Agdal is reportedly seeking “no less” than $150,000 in damages and is asking a judge to prohibit Danis from posting any more explicit images of her moving forward. How have things changed since? Twitch remains the top streaming site in the world. Despite rival YouTube making some big moves and acquiring top talent such as TimTheTatman, Twitch has maintained its position, but it hasn’t come without criticism. In 2021, malicious users were using bots to “hate raid” streamers of colors and overload their chats with offensive language. This eventually led to the #TwitchDoBetter campaign where streamers raised awareness of the problems and the lack of tools to deal with them. Now, a few months later and the dust has settled with Twitch finally offering up so methods for streamers to remain safe, but has it been enough? The fallout of #TwitchDoBetter Streamer RekItRaven, one of the larger voices in the movement, spoke with Dexerto and explained how she felt Twitch handled the situation. “Twitch handled it as quickly as possible, but the tools we’ve recently been given (needing a phone number to chat, parameters for account ages to be able to chat, etc.) were long overdue,” she said. “There have been improvements though, but there are still breakthrough accounts that are able to harass people. Titled “Elon Musk: ‘I officially bought Google’,” the video is voiced over by the owner of the ‘Elon Musk Zone’ YouTube channel hosting the hoax. At the time of writing, it reached over 458,000 views less than a day after it was uploaded. Fans of the tech magnate quickly shared their opinions in the comments of the video. “Of course, he can take Google. Most people may not agree. The man had genius abilities,” one user said. Another replied: “This is awesome thank you Elon you are the greatest.” In the description of the channel, the owner behind it notes that it is a “fan channel” made for “fictive entertainment,” but has definitely managed to convince viewers otherwise. Griffin came on with a lot of good energy, and took it very seriously. It felt like any co-star that you meet for the first time and you try to bond with and build a relationship. Griffin Johnson & Samantha Boscarino share funniest moments on set Q: What was the funniest moment that happened on set between the two of you? Griffin: I’ll say it, and I feel like you might agree. The first kissing scene we had. I don’t know if they’re gonna add in bloopers or what. I don’t remember if it was the second kiss or the first kiss or whatever. When you go to kiss someone you each have your own preferred way. It’s different for every relationship, every person or whatever. I think Sam and I prefer the same side. We had a few bumps into each other. I just remember that. It was super funny for me, because I never really thought about it until that moment, like, ‘Wow, everyone has a preferred side,’ and I guess we just have the same preferred side. Samantha: We did shoot that fairly on in the film. So we weren’t as comfortable with each other. Griffin: It was funny. It was interesting. Q: Did you guys play any golf to prepare on set? Did you goof off? Do you even like golf? Samantha: I played zero golf. Honestly, whenever I would see my cousins watching golf on TV, I’d be like, ‘I do not understand this. What is interesting about this?’ And then, I had to learn for this movie. I honestly kind of fell in love with it. I loved the challenge of it. I’m a dancer, so I think that helped, having the mind-body connection. It’s so much harder than it looks. I have a lot of respect for the golf game now. Griffin: I’ve played for many, many years of my life now. I loved being able to say that I’ve done a golf movie now, because I have a bunch of golf buddies and I play all the time. Griffin: You know, I’m actually in talks and working on something soon again with Creator plus. We have another film that will be just as culturally aware and authentic and fun. Pokimane vs Amouranth Amouranth has claimed the crown as the top female content creator on any platform with non-VTubers Pokimane and Valkyrae trailing behind. But who is the better boxer? Hasan vs Andrew Tate The beef between Twitch star Hasan and Andrew Tate exploded after the socialist commentator was kicked off a debate against the former kickboxer. At this point, Andrew Tate has the internet rallying against him amidst a slew of charges and controversial statements, so there’s no doubt Hasan would be a fan favorite. If Hasan is able to KO Tate, it could be a moment that would live on in internet history for many years to come. Jake Paul vs KSI This has to be the single most-requested fight in the entire influencer boxing game. Two undefeated combatants with a storied rivalry finally deciding who is the best of the best. After Jake Paul secured victories over former mixed martial artists Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley, he tried to match up against Tommy Fury and Hasim Rahman Jr, but both fights got canceled and not many people seemed to be showing much interest in them. Dexerto’s James Sellers to fight in Misfits card After taking on the challenging fight with just eight days notice and no prior experience in boxing, Dexerto Senior Producer James Sellers is preparing to step into the ring to take on popular Youtuber Brandon Harrera during the Misfits 008 influencer boxing event on July 22, 2023. He’s been training consistently over the past eight days since choosing to take on the fight, highlighting how “the opportunity came across my table and I had about, I think Keem (Keemstar) gave me about 30 minutes to decide and before I could think of any excuses I just said yes,” proving just how short notice the event was for him. Nevertheless, following intense training, and plenty of preparation, it’s clear James couldn’t be more ready to take on this challenge, commenting how he “can’t express how insane this has all been” in a recent Tweet. First up is famous Fortnite streamer SypherPK, and in the coming months, we’ll be speaking to former FaZe member Frazier Kay, Envy founder Mike ‘Hastr0’ Rufail, Complexity Gaming founder Jason Lake, and OpTic Gaming creative director and content creator Davis ‘Hitch’ Edwards. SypherPK is one of the biggest names in the Fortnite community, with over 5.7 million subscribers on YouTube and 5.4 million followers on Twitch. SypherPK’s multi-million dollar gaming facility Away from his time on-screen, the 25-year-old has a long-term vision to help other streamers reach a similar level of success. In the first Dexerto Originals documentary, Sypher gave us a behind-the-scenes look at his next big project for Oni Studios – a multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art, gaming complex that’s being built in Austin, Texas. Devious Lick TikTok challenge faces more backlash as full ‘prank’ list is revealed Unsplash: MChe LeThe backlash against TikTok’s viral ‘Devious Lick’ challenge is continuing, after a list containing a different school ‘prank’ for every month of the year started doing the rounds on TikTok. TikTok is known to be a place full of wild trends, but some of them have definitely caused more of a stir than others. The most troublesome trend to come out of recent weeks has undoubtedly been the ‘Devious Lick’ trend. The challenge involves students stealing increasingly bizarre objects from their schools, such as soap dispensers, printers, and even ceiling tiles. This trend naturally got a huge amount of backlash from schools, and TikTok even went on to ban it from the platform in an attempt to combat it. Now, people have been spreading a comprehensive list on social media that details every challenge planned for the months ahead, warning teachers of what might be to come. Future challenges include, “sleep in and be late,” “jab a breast,” “flip off front office,” and several more. On November 11, DeviantArt launched more new artificial intelligence art tools and controls for its artists, including the ability to keep their art from being automatically added to AI datasets and prompts. Users were left furious after the announcement, as the only way to do it is to go through all of your uploads individually. DeviantArt users furious as site adds art to AI prompts According to their announcement tweet, the new AI tools and controls include DreamUp as a new tool to generate art, the ability to limit the amount of AI art in your feed, clear labeling, as well as the ability to remove your art from AI datasets and prompts. However, many didn’t like the fact that their art was automatically opted in by the company because the only option to remove everything is to opt out of every single one of your uploads manually. One user commented that it’s easier to delete their account than it would be to manually disable their art. “Until now it seemed that DA was one of the few who supported us artists… Disappointing is not enough,” they said. Another user replied that the move felt like a “slap in the face” and questioned why the site made the decision to include everyone’s creations in these datasets at all. “Ok, I’m sorry, but this feels like such a slap to the face and I’m honestly beyond upset and disappointed at such a move,” they explained. “I really don’t know why was there no thought in listening to the user base and the insistence on giving the green light for such a move was such a tone-deaf part of a platform that depends so heavily on its community.” Alongside the plethora of backlash, there are many users threatening to cancel their paid memberships. A fan reached out to Devolver in an email on January 6, where they asked the company to place their first-person shooter title, ‘Shadow Warrior 2,’ on sale. “I want to buy and play ‘Shadow Warrior 2,’ so please put it on sale right away,” the fan wrote. “Thank you. All the best, potential future purchaser.” Devolver Digital wasted no time conceding to the fan’s request – albeit with a challenging twist. “Sure thing, boss,” the studio replied. “You’ve got one hour.” The company placed a 75% off sale on the title for one hour, slashing its original price of $39.99 to a mere 10 dollars. “CUSTOMER SERVICE,” Devolver said of their sale, posting the fan interaction in a Tweet shortly thereafter. Despite not making it into the playoffs, Jamaal Williams has been a favored player in the NFL as of late due to his heartwarming antics. At the start of 2023, Williams found his name circulating internet subcultures after showcasing his interests on live television. A clip of a post-game interview of the running back went viral following a decisive victory over the Bears on January 1. Williams – wearing a Naruto headband and jacket – was asked a question he didn’t seem to care for. He responded, “I don’t care. I just want to play football and go home. But you’re holding me right now. I just wanna go home and play Pokemon.” The reporter then made a grave mistake by calling the game “Pokeman,” which Williams seemingly took offense to. “Pokemon,” he corrected the reporter, “Don’t do that. Leader of the hidden village of the den.” This refers to the Kazekage or village leaders in the anime Naruto, and “the den” refers to the lion’s den. Following the victory over his former team, the Green Bay Packers, Williams melted fans’ hearts after breaking Barry Sander’s touchdown record and dedicating the achievement to his recently passed great-grandfather. However, he wasn’t done making an impression on fans. As one user posted to Reddit, Jamaal Williams was spotted wearing a hat featuring the Gen 1 ghost-type Pokemon Gengar in yet another iconic post-game interview. Destiny’s Kick channel suspected to be view botted as he hits insane viewership YouTube: DestinyYouTuber Turkey Tom has called into question the legitimacy of Destiny’s viewer count on his Kick livestream, tweeting out a picture of the political streamer sitting at over 173k views while playing Diablo 4. The topic of view-botting never really seems to go away in the live streaming space. Several streamers and even entire broadcasting platforms get accused of the practice. For anyone sure as to what view-botting is, it’s an act of using automated means to artificially inflate viewership on a platform, giving an illusion that one’s stream is way more popular than it actually is. Content creator Turkey Tom called into question the legitimacy of Destiny’s viewership numbers in a Tweet on July 2. “No way Destiny has a 170k live viewers right now,” wrote Tom in his Tweet, with an attached image of Destiny streaming Diablo 4 on Kick to 173,261 viewers. Destiny accused of being view booted as Kick viewership skyrockets While Turkey Tom did not directly accuse Destiny of manipulating his views, many of the replies to the original Tweet went straight to that conclusion. “He’s view-botting,” simply states one of the replies. “Man can’t even pull 17k. They aren’t even trying to hide it,” reads another comment in the same vein. Other users offered alternate explanations of the inflated number, such as pointing the finger at Kick’s internal workings of counting viewers. “To the ppl saying view botting – it’s not. Kick captures the viewer count in a shady way that artificially over-inflates the numbers. Doesn’t take your view out when you leave the stream and will add another if you join back, etc,” explains one user. Another theory is that a troll is going around live broadcasts and view-bots for large creators in an attempt to get them or the platform in trouble. “Doubt he’s doing it himself, probably someone trolling the Kick staff or something,” speculates yet another user in the thread. Curiously this is the same conclusion that Mizkif came to when he was accused of view-botting on Twitch in June of 2023.

Destiny weighs in on Hasan’s $3 million house purchase controversy Twitch: Destiny/HasanAbiLong-time Twitch streamer Steven ‘Destiny’ Bonell has weighed in on the controversy around Hasan ‘HasanAbi’ Piker’s recent house purchase, stating both sides have terrible takes. While it may have started out as a hobby for some to-level gamers, Twitch has become a viable career path for plenty of content creators. At the very top, some streamers are making millions a year and can afford a lavish purchase or two. However, popular political commentator Hasan found himself in hot water with some viewers after if it was revealed that he’d purchased a $3 million home in Los Angeles. The former Young Turks member has faced criticism from some who saw the purchase as hypocritical given that he identifies as a socialist. While others simply pointed out that it’s money, so he gets to make the decisions. Plenty of streamers have given their take on the outrage, with many hitting out at some of the comments Hasan received for buying his home – which he, himself, has fired back at. Many viewers have been waiting for a take from his long-time rival, Destiny, after a little while he’s finally chimed in. “If he wants to buy a big ass house, let him buy a big ass house, let him do it, that’s fine,” Destiny started. “But, I think it’s a little funny when a guy spends his whole life sh**ting on somebody like (Jeff) Bezos and signs an exclusive contract with Bezos so he can make millions of dollars to go a buy a mansion. That’s funny to me.” Bonell noted that he wasn’t sure if there was even a discussion to be had about it, but there are so many “bad arguments” from all sides that can easily fall apart and make a mockery of the whole situation, but ultimately he “doesn’t care” that much. Given the pair have butted heads on numerous occasions before, and things have gotten fractious between them, it wasn’t quite the fiery take that some may have expected. Regardless, while the initial outrage seems to have passed, Hasan is so in the spotlight because of his success on Twitch that the criticism will never stop, even if it is, as Destiny says, a “dogs**t argument” about things.

Destiny streamer SayNoToRage accused of harassment by multiple women Instagram: saynotorageTwitch partner and popular Destiny streamer Lono ‘SayNoToRage’ has been accused of making unwarranted advances by multiple women who are coming out with claims of harassment. There are people from multiple spaces in the industry who alleged similar interactions with SayNoToRage in the past. These reports have been coming out into the fold since streamer ‘JewelsVerne’ briefly mentioned her story from 2017 which encouraged others to do the same. “All I can think about is the time I played an entire card game with a notable streamer’s hand on my thigh the whole time and was then basically asked for s*x,” JewelsVerne claimed. “Oh and it was Lono [SayNoToRage] so there you all go.” Jewels described her alleged experience as “mild.” Throughout the night, more women came forward with claims of accounts between them and the Destiny broadcaster. Sara Daniels Barrett, known as SarahDanielsTV, explained how she was allegedly “cornered and made uncomfortable enough to have blocked one particular incident out of [her] memory until it was jogged recently.” my experience doesn’t compare to many multiple friends who have had much more horrible things happen, but i myself was cornered and made uncomfortable enough to have blocked one particular incident out of my memory until it was jogged recently. https://t.co/PuhwyVpjd2 — Sarah Daniels (@SarahDaniels) June 20, 2020 She too explicitly named SayNoToRage, but also described her account as “mild.” Like Jewels, Daniels told her story to encourage others to share theirs and to provide a support system for those “who have heinous stories, which will come out when those women are ready.” Hours later, Twitch partner MindofSnaps did just that with a lengthy and detailed sequence of alleged events from 2018. Her letter was a comprehensive retelling of multiple scenarios in which SayNoToRage allegedly either denied or downplayed advances that MindofSnaps said left her “feeling violated and uncomfortable.” Someone has asked me to anonymously share their experience with Lono as well.
