Demon Slayer cosplayer outraged after being given “Nezuko cap” at event Instagram: @sparklyhime / UfotableA Demon Slayer cosplayer is outraged after she was handed a “Nezuko cap” ticket at a convention by a random stranger because there were “too many” people dressed up as the popular Kamado sibling at the event. Cosplayers are some of the most talented individuals on the planet as they recreate costumes from popular culture such as anime and video games, and literally bring characters to life. Some outfits can take days, weeks, and even months to finish and perfect, showing just how dedicated some are to their craft. 24-year-old cosplay artist Faye Argentum attended Katsucon 2020 from February 14th-16th as Demon Slayer sister Nezuko Kamado, and was left stunned after a group of girls gave her a “cap” ticket because there were “too many” outfits of the character at the convention. Nezuko cosplay “cap” On February 20, Faye shared a screencap of her friend ‘ubehime’s Instagram Story which showed a photograph of the cosplayer holding up the ticket which read “Nezuko cosplay cap #3” alongside the caption “Real talk, some girls were handing these dumb tickets out, saying there was too many Nezuko and I’m like ??? who the f**k are you?” Alongside the screenshot, her tweet expressed how she felt “angry” and “sad” over receiving the card due to the fact that handing things like that out could make other people feel bad about their own hard work. “Some a**hole literally gave this to me [at Katsucon]. The audacity. I hate con goers. Like, do you think it’s cute? What reaction were you expecting?? I’m sad/angry for other nezuko cosplayers that go let this too cause this kinda thing can make you feel bad about your cosplays,” she said. In a follow-up tweet, the cosplayer said that it isn’t funny at all. “To be honest, if I got this kinda thing like while cosplaying a few years ago I would’ve gotten really upset, so I’m just feeling for the people that did get genuinely upset about it. I saw it, got angry for a bit, then was okay. But this stuff isn’t funny, like at all.” tbh if I got this kinda thing like while cosplaying a few years ago I would’ve gotten really upset, so I’m just feeling for the people that did get genuinely upset about it. I saw it, got angry for a bit, then was okay. But This stuff isn’t funny, like at all. — faye (@sparklyhime) February 20, 2020 After people started to point out that the “cap” was a running gag among fans of the series, Faye spoke out again, this time to warn people that even if that is the case, it can still really affect someone’s confidence. “I get that the whole thing is supposed to be a joke/meme, but that doesn’t make it harmless to everyone. So just….be nice to people?? It’s not hard,” she said. “I was unaware of it, I was just handed this by girls that were all giggly about it and said there’s a nezuko cosplay cap cause there’s too many and walked away before I could react,” she continued. “So, if I was in on the meme I would’ve understood more? But I still don’t think it’s that funny.” I was unaware of it, I was just handed this by girls that were all giggly about it and said there’s a nezuko cosplay cap cause there’s too many and walked away before I could react so, if I was in on the meme I would’ve understood more? But I still don’t think it’s that funny — faye (@sparklyhime) February 21, 2020 Despite being a “meme,” Faye’s awareness of the situation has raised the question of why it matters whether a lot of people are cosplaying as the same character because if you’re a fan of something, you should be able to express that in whatever way, shape, or form you’d like to. • Demon Slayer cosplayer masters Beast Breathing as Inosuke Hashibira – Dexerto

Demon Slayer cosplayer masters Beast Breathing as Inosuke Hashibira Instagram: Taryn_cosplay / FunimationA talented cosplayer embraced his inner beast and transformed into Inosuke Hashibira from Demon Slayer. His fans can’t believe how accurate it is, and neither can we. Inosuke Hashibira is one of the most hilarious characters in Demon Slayer. He was raised by boars, which is why he’s rough around the edges when it comes to human interaction. He also has a short-temper and unwavering confidence, and it often lands him in hot water. But despite his flaws, he’s a formidable ally and a powerful Demon Slayer. He’s a skilled swordsman. However, unlike other characters in the show, he prefers wielding two swords instead of a katana. He also taught himself Beast Breathing, which enhances his sense of touch. Inosuke also doesn’t look like a typical Demon Slayer. Instead of wearing the traditional outfit, he only wears pants, a belt made from brown animal fur, knee-high socks, and sandals. His trademark feature, however, is the iconic boar’s head he wears to mask his face. It belonged to his adoptive boar mother. Inosuke looks like he would be an imposing figure in real life. Fortunately, thanks to talented cosplayer Taryn, we know that for sure. He’s cosplayed everything from Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez from Bleach to Sett from League of Legends. They’re all insanely good. However, his Inosuke is on another level. “Pig Assault! Hashibira Inosuke,” he said. “I missed this guy. What about you? Would you like to see me cosplaying “unmasked” Inosuke? Would you be ready?” View this post on Instagram Taryn will undoubtedly nail the unmasked version, and fans would love to see it. However, his masked version is flawless from head to toe. The outfit itself is simple enough, although he re-created it to a tee. But his version of the actual boar mask is out of this world. Staying true to the character, he took on a martial arts pose in the first picture and two thumbs up in the second. He’s received almost 10,000 likes between them, which is a good chunk of his 90,000 followers. Taryn takes his cosplaying very seriously, and his dedication shines through in the quality of each piece. All in all, his version of Inosuke is as good as it gets, and he deserves all the praise.

In the Demon Corps, the strongest and most skillful warriors are known as Pillars, each with their own unique title, look, and abilities. Despite being known as the Love Pillar, Mitsuri Kanroji can regularly be seen slaying the creatures with her trusty sword, and with her incredibly kind nature mixed with her steely determination to rid the earth of the beasts, it’s no surprise that many viewers immediately became enamored by the character. Instagram user ‘kibocosplay_‘ is clearly a massive fan of the character, showing off her perfect take on Demon Slayer’s Love Pillar with an incredible cosplay which brings Mitsuri Kanroji to life in stunning detail… So good that it looks like the character was lifted out of the anime and into real life. Sitting on a rock beside a stream, Esperenza can be seen wearing a perfect green and pink wig, styled just like the character’s own hair (braided into two plaits that fall either side of her face). Her costume is just as accurate, complete with her black Demon Corps dress and her green socks, and of course, completed by her signature blade, showing she’s ready to strike down any demons who get too close. While Demon Slayer became a smash hit worldwide, Ufotable has yet to announce when the second season of the anime will release, as fans anxiously wait for the next chapter in the story. There is some good news for those desperate for more Demon Slayer tales, as a special movie titled “Mugen Train” will release in Japan in October 2020, which will act as a bridge between Season 1 and 2.

The cosplay is one of the closest we have seen compared to the character, wearing a perfect version of the Shinobu’s outfit, and an incredibly accurate recreation of her black and purple hair, and the butterfly that sits on the crown of her head. • Demon Slayer cosplayer charms fans as devious Doma – Dexerto

Demon Slayer cosplayer charms fans as devious Doma VIZ Media / Instagram: andrew_s_cosplayDoma might be a manga-only character in Demon Slayer for now, but there’s plenty of anticipation about his arrival in the anime soon. In the hype, cosplayers have been flocking to take on the Twelve Kizuki member, and ‘andrew_s_cosplay’ has put on a show with it. Warning: This article contains spoilers for the Demon Slayer anime. Doma has only been revealed in the manga at the time of publication. If there were no villains to fight, Demon Slayer would be a pretty straight-forward anime affair. However, there’s plenty of action going on, thanks to the antics of the Twelve Kizuki. Doma is one such member of the deadly group of demons. The Upper Rank Two within the Twelve Kizuki, he ranks as the third-highest within the corps’ mortal enemy. With that ranking comes some powers — and charm to win people over onto his side. While he has a dedicated cult following within the anime, as the hype builds for Season 2, he’s also generating one outside too. Doma’s charming looks, and deceptively powerful abilities, make him one of the most feared antagonists in the series. There’s a lot going on with his character — calm but mischievous on the outside, deadly on the inside — that’s particularly hard to get across in cosplay. It’s more than just a costume, but that’s exactly what ‘andrew_s_cosplay’ has put on with his Doma outfit. View this post on Instagram “I really love this man, he is my favourite villain of [Demon Slayer],” the cosplayer said on Instagram. You can see the love and attention that’s gone into the costume’s design too. From the golden fan — Doma’s hallmark weapon — to the perfectly manicured hair, and the crimson-red and black outfit, andrew_s has spared no detail. He’s even got a splattering of ‘blood’ around his mouth, an indication of one of the many victims the twisted Twelve Kizuki member has devoured. If there is a cosplay to get you in the mood to catch up on the manga, or just hang out for Demon Slayer Season 2, this is it. After all, everyone is going to be acquainted with Doma soon, and the action is only just really heating up.

Demon Slayer exploded in popularity after releasing in 2019, and the record-breaking success of Mugen Train took it to a whole new level. As a result, cosplayers worldwide have graced us with incredible transformations into their favorite characters. But while Mitsuri, Tanjiro, and Shinobu have proven to be popular choices, Nezuko is, by far, the most popular one in the scene. Still, although new ones keep popping up left, right, and center, many of them take our breath away. And Jesserly’s piece did precisely that. Jesserly is a brilliant make-up artist who loves using her talents to create and share original characters. However, she decided to break the mold and give a non-original character cosplay a go by transforming into Nezuko Kamado. Not only was the hair and outfit on point, but her craftsmanship with the make-up shines through and makes the cosplay look even better than it already did. And the floral tattoo on her arm ties into it perfectly, too. In a second shot, Jesserly gave fans a closer look at the outfit. It’s got everything from the pink kimono to the red and white checkered sash and trademark bamboo mouthpiece. She didn’t miss a beat, which is no surprise given the quality of her original content. More than a thousand people approved of her cosplay. A handful of users also left comments describing it as “lovely” and “outstanding.” One of them even paid their respects to the attention to detail in the make-up. She deserves all the attention and praise she’s getting, and hopefully, we’ll see her dish up some more anime cosplays in the upcoming weeks and months.

However, she was attacked and turned into a powerful demon by Muzan Kibutsuji, the series’s main antagonist. Nezuko’s interesting appearance is one of the main reasons why she’s a popular choice among cosplayers. She wears a pink kimono, a brown robe, a red and white checkered sash, an orange waistband, pink sandals, and white socks wrapped in thick material. • Demon Slayer cosplayer awakens mark as fiery Tanjiro Kamado with female twist – Dexerto

Demon Slayer cosplayer awakens mark as fiery Tanjiro Kamado with female twist Viz Media / Instagram: @michaela.lee1Demon Slayer Season 2 is here, and it’s got the cosplay world — and Twitch streamer Michaela Lee — rushing to recreate the popular anime’s most famous characters, including shounen hero and demon slayer Tanjiro Kamado. Tanjiro is the titular “Demon Slayer” in Koyoharu Gotouge’s famous manga series, which successfully made the jump to the small screen in early 2019. Demon Slayer’s popularity has been nothing short of immense since its very first episode, which saw Tanjiro thrust into the world of demon hunting, with Japanese and western audiences alike devouring every piece of content from the anime world, including character cosplays and costume creations. As the main character, Tanjiro Kamado is a fan favorite. It made total sense then for cosplayer and Twitch streamer Michaela Lee to bring the shounen hero to life with her own incredible female twist of the character. Lee, who goes by michaela.lee1 on Instagram, first unveiled her female Tanjiro Kamado cosplay as Demon Slayer Season 2 was first airing in early October. It’s fair to say the cosplay is pretty incredible too. In the anime, Tanjiro wears an iconic green and black haori over a white robe and black pants, and Michaela made sure to get that aspect of the cosplay just right: her Demon Slayer costume is note for note perfect, down to the “black-and-sea-foam” colors. Lee’s cosplay wasn’t without its little changes, however. Where Tanjiro’s outfit is a full-body piece, the Twitch streamer instead donned a shorter black top, giving her take a unique look that separated it from all the rest. To finish, Michaela added Tanjiro’s unmissable facial scar — his Demon Slayer Mark — spread across her forehead like a fiery burn, just like in the anime. View this post on Instagram According to Michaela, who spoke to Dexerto in an exclusive interview after posting her Tanjio cosplay, she picked the Demon Slayer protagonist because she was drawn to his “gentle yet honest nature,” and loves that he’s “so serious and strong-willed in battle, always striving to protect the ones he loves.” The cosplayer was offered an opportunity to cosplay Demon Slayer from miccostumes, and leaped at the idea. View this post on Instagram As far as Demon Slayer cosplays go, we think Michaela Lee’s is pretty awesome, and certainly captures the essence of Tanjiro Kamado and his ongoing quest to save his sister from her demonic transformation. The cosplayer streams on Twitch as 01mika, regularly playing League of Legends and other games. The cosplay star told Dexerto her next Demon Slayer costume “will probably be Nezuko!” Demon Slayer Season 2 is expected to return from a brief hiatus soon. The series is adapting the Mugen Train arc, which was also the plot of the 2020 movie.

Mayweda has shared her own stunning design from the show, with fans falling in love with her Mother Spider Demon cosplay. The Spider Demons are the main antagonists of Demon Slayer’s Natagumo Mountain arc, and the Mother is front and center. She puts that power to the test against Tanjiro and friends, weaving together dolls to do the fighting for her. As far as anime antagonists go, Mother Spider Demon is one of the most popular, and Demon Slayer cosplayers have dressed up as her many times. Demon Slayer cosplay breathes life into awesome Kanao Tsuyuri Instagram: miunalie / Ufotable[jwplayer MDxzN19r]A talented Demon Slayer fan has shown off their incredible take on one of anime’s most interesting characters with a perfect take on Kanao Tsuyuri. Demon Slayer has quickly become one of the most popular animes in the world following its 2019 debut, capturing the imaginations of fans worldwide with the story of Tanjiro Kamado, a young man whose family is murdered by demons, and his sister then turned into one. Determined to get revenge on the creatures who have ruined his family, and desperate for a way to turn Nezuko back into human form, Kamado joins the Demon Slayers in an attempt to wipe them out once and for all. Along the way, he meets a host of interesting and exciting characters like Kanae and Sinobu Kocho, and their shy adopted sister Kanao Tsuyuri. Kanao’s most recognizable personality trait is her shyness, and constantly finds herself unable to make decisions by herself, looking to her sisters to help her when the pressure is on. To help her, Kanae gave her a coin to flip, quickly becoming her trademark, allowing the universe to decide her next move. While she may be shy though, don’t be fulled into thinking she isn’t dangerous, and can more than hold her own when battle commences. The Demon Slayer wears the characteristic robes that define those who pursue the evil creatures, originally wearing a purple version of the dress before switching to the classic black, sporting her black hair tied into a ponytail, with a straight fringe and two strands falling either side of her face. Cosplayer ‘miunalie’ captured the character perfectly, complete with the butterfly pin in the perfectly styled hair, and Kanao’s sword, ready to smite down any Demons who may cross her path. • Deathly Revenant cosplay will give Apex Legends fans chills – Dexerto

Deathly Revenant cosplay will give Apex Legends fans chills nurbzwax (Instagram)/EARevenant is set to make his way into the Apex Legends’ universe during Season 4, and fans are already bringing the deadly simulacrum to life. Apex Legends’ long-awaited Season 4 trailer provided fans with a plethora of information on Revenant. The Synthetic Nightmare was previously pivotal to the ‘Fight or Fright’ Halloween event, where they pulled the strings during the Shadowfall game mode. Fans now have a clearer picture of the mysterious character’s roots and what their intentions are, following the ‘Assimilation’ trailer. With that in mind, a cosplayer under the alias ‘nurbzwax’ has created a chilling take on the former Syndicate mercenary. Complete with Revenant’s stone-cold robotic iris, the cosplayer has paid remarkably close attention to detail, given the scarce information available. Nurbz has also included Revenant’s contours around the eyes and on their forehead, to ensure that the Legend appears like they’ve been plucked straight out of the in-game files. https://www.instagram.com/p/B7_aH6gnBZJ/ The cosplayer captioned their first post, stating: “As soon as I saw this guy, I just had to try and do makeup of him! The short for him was so cool and I watched it at least five times… So excited for Season 4!” Nurbz’ take on the Synthetic Nightmare is all the more impressive considering the obvious absence of close-up 3D renders — since the character hasn’t even been released yet! While they admitted that the eyes and symbol were edited into the design, there is no denying that the final product is as close to the mark as it gets. Fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Revenant into the Apex Games, which is locked in for February 4 — although some players have expressed concerns over the size of the Legend’s hitbox. Until then, nurbzwax’s cosplay is the closest we’ll get to the real thing, unless Respawn hit us with another assimilation-themed trailer to add to Revenant’s lore.

  • Death Stranding cosplayer perfects uncanny valley as Fragile – Dexerto

Death Stranding cosplayer perfects uncanny valley as Fragile Instagram, @angelinazelda / Kojima Productions[jwplayer MDxzN19r]A Russian, self-proclaimed “rookie” cosplayer, Angelina Zelda, has put together a cosplay of Death Stranding’s Fragile that is so impeccable, it uncomfortably creates a reversed version of the uncanny valley effect. Without revealing any spoilers, in Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding, Fragile is a young woman and an executive of Fragile Express. Her character model is based on the popular French actress, Lea Seydoux. While the character quickly gained notoriety among fans, who eagerly anticipated Kojima’s latest production, because of a trailer that saw her nibbling on something…strange, Angelina Zelda is now gaining her own fame for seamlessly recreating Fragile’s look. At the end of the Death Stranding trailer shown at E3 2018, you see Fragile having a snack. A couple years later, Zelda’s recreation of that scene reverses the uncanny valley in one simple shot. Against an identical, black background, Zelda feels uncomfortably similar to the video game’s rendering — from her hair, to the makeup, to the muted, almost inquisitive expression. And that’s not even considering the identical outfit and prop. https://www.instagram.com/p/CE6zTrzD5Rh/ This one photo, a side-by-side of Fragile and Zelda, has quickly made the rounds across the internet and made Zelda a more popular cosplayer than ever. She is acutely aware of that new influx and had a wholesome reaction to this outpouring of support: “In the past few days, a lot of people followed me. And I know it is largely due to this photo. I am eternally grateful for your support and positivity … I will try my best not to disappoint you all.” That support is well-deserved, as few cosplays are so uncomfortably close to their inspiration that a writer is forced into describing the uncanny valley. But, that’s what she has done. The uncanny valley is, in essence, the concept that a robot or graphically created becomes uncomfortable as it nears closeness in resemblance to a real human. Uncertain of the object’s actual humanity, there is a degree of discomfort as the human viewer sees something that feels close enough to be real, but not quite. https://www.instagram.com/p/CEwfdAGDM8f/ Somehow, Zelda has turned this effect on its head and reversed the bizarre discomfort. In this case, her makeup and muted expression cause the viewer to look back and forth in an effort to discern the real from the computed. One can only be enthused that this cosplay is getting the attention it deserves and one can only hope that Kojima will continue creating characters deserving of uncomfortably clean mimicry.

Misa is an integral part of the Death Note series as she is the second human we see use a notebook to kill people and ultimately help Light Yagami on his mission to create a new world. What makes her even stand out, even more, is the fact she is a famous model and actress within the show’s universe, which makes sense given her ridiculously expensive outfits. Misa’s modeling career is even showcased in some of the manga’s artwork, such as her iconic pose in which she holds the notebook in her right hand while dressed in black with shiny boots, fishnets and collar. https://www.instagram.com/p/CKwkRyFjm5B/ Cosplayer ThanatosArts was able to perfectly recreate this pose in a picture uploaded to her Instagram account on February 1. In the series, those who possess a Death Note can trade half of their remaining lifespan in order to see the names of people above their heads. This is what makes Misa even more deadly than Light, although she may lack his overwhelming intelligence. https://www.instagram.com/p/CEj7QINiaMR/ Another photo has ThanatosArts writing in the Death Note while posing for the camera. Needless to say, we hope she isn’t writing our names in there! We can’t wait to see what other amazing works she can cook up in the future or if she has any more Death Note ideas up her sleeve.

  • DARLING in the FRANXX cosplayer kills it as sultry Zero Two – Dexerto

DARLING in the FRANXX cosplayer kills it as sultry Zero Two Instagram, @milksodacosplay / TriggerA Darling in the Franxx cosplayer, ‘milksodacosplay,’ has brought the anime’s deadly heroine, Zero Two, to life with a cosplay that is as seductive as it is spot-on and dangerous. Darling in the Franxx is a sci-fi anime series from 2018 that contends with themes of post-apocalyptic survival, romance and action. Above all else, the series presents a duality of childlike charm and morbid reality, which is embodied directly in the heroine and deuteragonist: Zero Two. Formally known as Strelizia True Apus, Zero Two isn’t the average human. And, while no one is an average human in a post-apocalyptic universe beset by monstrous Klaxosaurs and adults who sacrificed procreative abilities for immortality, the heroine is especially…unique. Cherry blossom pink hair isn’t particularly abnormal, nor is the combination with green eyes. In fact, those are classic features in anime. Instead, what may be a little off-putting about Zero Two are her little red horns — evidence of her hybrid origins as a klaxosapien. Those are in full display in the cosplay from milksoda. View this post on Instagram Also known as Danii, the cosplayer goes with a full commitment to the Zero Two vibe. Red horns, latex red jumpsuit (a necessity for a FRANXX pilot), the aforementioned cherry blossom hair and a trademark lollipop prop. Zero Two seems to be a seductress of sorts in the show. Despite being notoriously known as the “Partner Killer” due to the deaths of her male pilot counterparts, she still secures the protagonist, Hiro’s trust. The key moment between Zero Two and Hiro is expressed as a direct ode to the series’ title, as the heroine tells the protagonist how happy she is to have met him: “I found you, my darling!” View this post on Instagram Without diving into any of the spoilers, aside from these general mentions of main characters, the entire series touches on romantic motifs. With adult humans giving up their tendencies for relationships and procreation in order to become immortalized, much of the show tackles the teenage characters’ difficulties and interests. As such, it should be no surprise that Danii leaned toward the promiscuous with her cosplay. The skin-tight suit, lollipop and shots on bed are all particularly relevant considering the show’s overt themes.

  • Dark Souls cosplayer burns bright as amazing Fire Keeper – Dexerto

Dark Souls cosplayer burns bright as amazing Fire Keeper Bandai Namco / Instagram: gglindsayelyseThe Fire Keeper in Dark Souls is a friendly sight to come across when journeying around Lothric. Meeting her in the Firelink Shrine lets you shine even brighter as a player by helping you level up, and seeing this cosplay might just have the same effect. Dark Souls’ Fire Keeper may not be able to see her beauty, but she’s a welcoming NPC to stumble across during your path through Lothric. Locating in the Firelink Shrine, she can help you ‘heal’ Dark Sigils, and even is linked to one of the game’s endings — The End of Fire. While she shines bright in-game, Fire Keepers are actually “robbed of light,” serving as vessels for souls. Cosplayer Lindsay Elyse has managed to perfectly recreate the Fire Keeper in real life though. Her cosplay of the Dark Souls NPC has turned many heads. Featuring the Keeper’s iconic headwear, Elyse’s cosplay has missed no detail. The deep black dress, covering her from neck-to-toe, is exquisitely lined with jewels. She also did the arm coverings from scratch, leaving only her fingers exposed to the light — just like the Keepers in-game. Her cosplay is very true to the character, and looks magnificent. I’m not wearing this on stream (though playing with no eyes would be super fun) – but I’m definitely still using the photo to tell you I’m live with DS3 https://t.co/EsDaX64FtZ pic.twitter.com/2iwAPlFpjn — lindsay elyse (@gglindsayelyse) February 10, 2021 Of course, she has plenty of uses for it. A Twitch streamer, Elyse actually used images of it to promote her stream where she was playing Dark Souls 3. Hopefully with a cosplay like this, she’d be gunning for The End of Fire ending. It’d be a challenge to play Dark Souls in the cosplay — after all, she is completely blind while wearing it — but it’s still stunning to look at. The cosplayer described it as one of her “dream” cosplays, and she put the effort in to really make it just that.

With red and blue streaks in her hair as well as her nails, every details has been taken into account. Not to be taken lightly however, she comes wielding her trusty baseball bat, seemingly ready to strike down any who might stand in her way. Having just seen Harley’s latest adventure for herself, Fox offered up her own opinion, arguing the movie wasn’t perfect but still a necessary viewing for any DC fan. “Not so good, not so bad, but definitely must watch.” This isn’t the first time Fox has applied her costume-designing talents to the character either, with Harley Quinn one of the staple costumes for the cosplayers throughout Fox’s social media presence. In another appearance as the Birds of Prey leader, Fox appeared as Quinn posing in jail, casually sips tea in her full costume during an earlier photoshoot. The series follows the stories of top students at a number of different high schools, who are tasked with killing one of their classmates without getting caught. Cosplayer ‘tenevi_hagane’ is clearly a fan, showing off her incredible take on one of Trigger Happy Havoc’s most recognizable characters, Junko Enoshima. Junko Enoshima players a major role in Trigger Happy Havoc, with the Hope’s Peak Academy student originally seeming like a happy and carefree girl. With her behavior becoming more menacing and erratic, her classmates finally understand that her only goal is to bring despair wherever she goes, as it is the only emotion she truly feels. Despite her villainous actions, Junko remains one of the most popular Danganronpa characters to cosplay, and is instantly recognizable thanks to her pink hair, which sits out in two massive ponytails either side of her head. These gigantic sections of hair are held in place by Monokuma hair clips, one with a cute smiling face, and a black one with bright red eyes, to show off the duality of personality. Tenevi has also created a brilliant version of the character’s school uniform, complete with a black vest over a white dress shirt, a red pleated skirt, and a black and white tie in the style of her Monokuma hair clips. The story follows the lives of an array of students at a rather unusual high school, where the only way to graduate and escape the bizarre occurrences within the institution, is to kill a fellow classmate and get away with it. The game’s cast of vibrant characters is more than enough fuel for a booming cosplay scene, and we’ve seen some fantastic takes on characters such as Ibuki Mioda and Junko Enoshima. Each character has their own title, and Mikan Tsumiki is known as the ‘Ultimate Nurse,’ which cosplayer trickster.stuck and photographer senkophotography have brought to life in a series of stunning images. The collared nurse’s dress mimics Mikan’s original pinafore, paired with a black belt around the waist. On one hand they wear a white silk glove, and on the other a bandage is wrapped around their forearm, in keeping with the classic nurse’s aesthetic. View this post on Instagram Their hair is long and tinged purple, and is so detailed that it even has been chopped into the crooked style that Mikan sports in the visual novel. But the thing that really makes this cosplay pop, is the bright purple smoke that flows to the background. Photographer senkophotography appears to use smoke grenades regularly in their work, and it’s safe to say that it looks brilliant here. View this post on Instagram Plumes of purple smoke billow around trickster.stuck, tying in with the pink and purple stains littered across the nurse’s uniform. This is along with their purple tinged eyebrows, lips, and face paint that drips down from the eyes, making for an incredible image. This cosplay turned out brilliantly as a result of both the costumer and the photographer, and perfectly ties in with the Danganronpa universe.

The story focuses on a terrifying school, that you can only ‘graduate’ and therefore escape from by murdering one of your fellow classmates and getting away with it. The thrilling plot has definitely earned its loyal following. Junko Enoshima is the Ultimate Fashionista of the game, but more than her fashion, she’s known for being slightly unhinged. However, her personality has not scared fans off, in fact, it’s done quite the opposite. Cosplayers in particular have fallen for Junko thanks to her fascinating personality and unique aesthetic, and nozzomo_cosplay was one such creator who decided to recreate the character, doing a fantastic job in the process. Their blonde hair mimics Junko’s thick, voluminous waves, that fall in bunches down the side of their head. The pigtails are, of course, clipped with the iconic twin bear clips that replicate Monokuma’s two sides. Danganronpa cosplayer creates perfect outfit of gamer Chiaki Nanami Spike Chunsoft / Instagram: juniper_starsDanganronpa character Chiaki Nanami has been perfectly recreated by a talented cosplayer on Instagram and TikTok, breathing life into the Ultimate Gamer with a series of brilliant images. [jwplayer V7KFXiLn] The first installment of the visual novel game Danganronpa, Trigger Happy Havoc, was released in 2010, and since then there have been several more games added to the franchise, along with an anime series adaptation. The game has a huge following, particularly in the cosplay community, as the character design is so unique and bold that it offers a lot of scope for recreating the costumes in interesting ways. Each game has a similar premise: the characters must escape the hellish school in which they are trapped, Hope’s Peak Academy, by killing another classmate and getting away with it. The gruesome plot is overseen by a sadistic robot bear, Monokuma, who is even referenced in some of the characters’ outfits. Chiaki Nanami is labeled as the ‘Ultimate Gamer’ in the series, and as her name suggests, she is obsessed with games. This is a trait that cosplayer juniper_stars made sure to highlight in their stunning recreation of the character, looking every bit the part of the gamer. View this post on Instagram Their white blonde hair falls in a bob that just brushes their shoulders, with the ends flicked out to the side in a cute style that exactly replicates Chiaki’s locks. The forest green blazer with contrasting pink trims matches the green trim along with the buttons of their blouse, along with the delicate pink ribbon hanging from their neck. The lighting in the images and videos is also stunning, with the rainbow fragments adding an extra dimension to the look, tying in with the saturated colors on both the face and throughout the outfit. This recreation of Chiaki was excellently done, and the cosplayer’s hard work clearly paid off in this real-life version of the character.

  • Danganronpa cosplayer creates havoc with perfect Junko Enoshima – Dexerto

Danganronpa cosplayer creates havoc with perfect Junko Enoshima Instagram: uzileks / Spike ChunsoftA talented cosplayer has created a perfect version of the chilling Junko Enoshima from the Danganronpa visual novel series, bringing the character to life with her incredible take. The Danganronpa series has become a cult classic ever since the release of Trigger Happy Hacov, following the story of students at top schools who are tasked with killing another member of their class without getting caught. Players are tasked with taking part in deadly trials, searching for clues, and eventually finding out who the killer is. The series has gripped many who have played it thanks to the interesting characters, and the frightening yet immersive world in which it is set, so its no surprise that many have started to cosplay as their favorite students from the series, and cosplayer ‘uzileks’ has become the latest to unveil a stunning recreation of Junko Enoshima, who appeared in the first Danganronpa. Enoshima plays a major role in Trigger Happy Havoc, as the Ultimate Fashionista from Hope’s Peak Academy, and while she appears to be carefree and happy, her true demeanor is much more sinister, easily bored and apathetic, causing her behavior to become menacing and erratic as the story unfolds, eventually becoming clear that she loves to bring despair wherever she goes as it’s the only emotion she truly feels and enjoys. Junko‘s standout feature is clearly her hair, which is bright pink in color and sits out in two massive ponytails either side of her head. Her long locks are held in place by to Monokuma hair clips, one white with a cute, happy face, and a black one with evil red eyes and teeth bared, perhaps used to illustrate the two different sides of the character. Uzileks has also created a near-perfect version of her uniform, complete with a black cardigan over a white dress shirt, a white scarf tied loosely around her neck, and a red bow on her left side which is identical to Junko’s placement, although hard to spot thanks to her massive ponytails. Fans of the series were clearly delighted with her take on the character, with some saying that although it’s a hard character to pull off, “she definitely did,” while others complimented her pink wig which she had styled to look like the character. This Junko Enoshima is definitely one of the best we’ve ever seen, and captures the spirit of the character perfectly.

Danganronpa Cosplayer creates fierce human version of Monokuma Instagram: sekai.v / Spike ChunsoftA talented cosplayer on Instagram has flipped Danganronpa on its head by cosplaying villain Monokuma with a human twist, utilizing some stunning makeup effects and an acute attention to detail. Danganronpa is a series of visual novels that was first released in 2010 with Trigger Happy Havoc, later followed by an additional two sequels that carried the horror and the fun forward to new characters. The central premise is that there are a group of students trapped in a hellish school in which their only means of escape is by killing one of their classmates and getting away with it. The morbid plot combined with the often bright aesthetic of the main characters has proven to be a winning format, scooping up fans around the globe and inspiring an array of cosplayers to recreate some of the stunningly designed costumes. Monokuma is a robotic stuffed bear, and functions as one of the primary antagonists of the franchise. Split down the middle, he is a normal white teddy bear on one side, with a more sinister looking bear on the other, matching his personality perfectly. Sekai.v brings Monokuma to life Cosplayer sekai.v decided to try their hand at recreating Monokuma but with a fascinating human twist, and their attention to detail was absolutely brilliant. View this post on Instagram Their long hair is split down the middle, with one white half and one black half just like the original character. Strands from each side blend into the other, providing a stunningly realistic edge to stark contrast in color. While one eye remains dark and normal, the other is a deep red, overlaid with face paint that exactly matches the original. The spiky red pattern has layers within the color, and really brings out the vibrancy of the one red eye, topped off with the red lipstick. View this post on Instagram The black and white contrast of the heart choker along with the matching blouse just shows the level of detail in this cosplay, and makes sekai.v look every bit the part of the fierce villain Monokuma. This human version of the iconic villain is certainly impressive, and a super interesting take on the bear.

CyberPunk cosplayer creates terrifying functional Bioware arm @Ketrin_and_Ali/CD Projekt RedA cosplayer’s stunning CyberPunk prop looks like a real-life version of the Bioware enhancements that we’ve already seen previewed for CD Projekt Red’s epic new game. CyberPunk 2077 is definitely one of the most anticipated games of 2020, and even though it doesn’t come out until November 2020, cosplayers have already been hard at work bringing it to life. One of the most interesting aspects of the game we’ve seen previewed so far will be the various ‘Bioware’ enhancements you can give to your character granting them things like abilities, different vision settings, and yes, various ridiculous weapons. Arguably the most famous of these so far are the aptly-named ‘Mantis Blades’ which, as the name suggests, deploy as a large, scythe-like weapon from the top of the forearm. It might sound like pure sci-fi, but Czech cosplayer and prop maker Ali actually managed to bring it to life, and the results look terrifyingly real. Yes I can wear it! It does, however, extend out to an absurd length, perfect for catching enemies with the pointy end when they least expect it. Ali’s work on the Mantis Blade took her at least a month, based on various updates posted to Twitter. It isn’t even the first one she’s has made, but we have to say it’s definitely one of the most impressive Cyberpunk cosplay pieces we’ve seen so far. Along with the pink nails, the skin actually looks real to a degree where it’s almost creepy. To celebrate CD Projekt Red’s futuristic project, a talented cosplayer transformed herself into female protagonist, V. She even included the modification lines that run under her left eye and to her temple. https://www.instagram.com/p/B43MA2zjFBv/ In another shot taken by ‘redbelly_photography‘, the cosplayer mirrored V’s pose from the game’s box art. Cyberpunk 2077 cosplayer transforms herself into a Night City Streetkid Sydeon / CD Projekt RedCyberpunk 2077 players have had a blast stepping into the shoes of their custom-made characters, but popular streamer and cosplayer Sydeon took it a step further and dressed up as a real-life Streetkid. Cyberpunk 2077’s controversial launch has polarized gamers since day one. Some of the major bugs and glitches have been fixed. However, it still has serious performance issues on PS4 and Xbox One consoles, which has seen it get taken down from the PSN store. Still, it’s not all doom and gloom. Shroud even described it as “the best single-player game of all time.” Either way, Cyberpunk 2077 has proven to be a smash hit in the cosplay community too. But while we’ve seen many characters brought to life, popular streamer and cosplayer Sydeon decided to do something a little different. Many players have wondered what they’d be like as a character in the game. Better yet, they’ve imagined themselves looking and acting like one of Night City’s Streetkids. Sydeon had the talent and dedication to make it a reality, and she looks fantastic. View this post on Instagram Sydeon transformed herself into a Streetkid, which is one of three life paths available in Cyberpunk 2077. The neon-pink color in her hair and the metallic white face paint add a sense of color to break it up, which complements the dark shade of lipstick. All the pieces come together and help give off an authentic Cyberpunk 2077 vibe. Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, not yet anyway. However, just because some people don’t enjoy it doesn’t mean everyone has to. Sydeon seems to be enjoying it so far, and the fact she was willing to create such a stunning cosplay is a testament to that. There’s a reason why she was named our cosplayer of the year. While many have relegated Cyberpunk 2077 into the depths of unfinished video game history, CD Projekt Red have been hard at work trying to rebuild the game’s tattered reputation. With Patch 1.4 being next up, hopefully we’ll be able to traverse the bloodstained streets of Night City without the irritating glitches. Anxiously awaiting the new update is German cosplayer, Skunk, whose spectacular cosplay of local fixer queen, Rogue, will leave you desperate to jump back into the game. Cyberpunk Rogue cosplay will take your breath away Despite Cyberpunk’s infamous bugs and glitches, Skunk instantly fell in love with the game. “Last year I played the game and, although the bugs were bad, I finished it,” she told Dexerto. “I really loved the look of Rogue and, to be honest, I really wanted to have this shirt! So I made it, one thing led to another, and then voila! A whole costume.” Not only did that iconic ‘SURVIVE’ jumper take her interest, but Rogue’s entire vibe resonates perfectly with her own. “I think she is a very strong character and I really liked the idea to cosplay a grandma who doesn’t look like one. I mean she rules the city! How bada** can you be at 80+ years old?!” Considering Skunk’s Twitter bio notes that she “likes it bada**,” this cosplay seems to have been written in the stars for her – and it looks it, too! Silvery hair cascades down her shoulders, framing the black panel on her iconic yellow sweater. Tight leather jeans cling to her legs, with every cybernetic implant perfectly recreated. The funniest thing is that I made the font with Microsoft Paint. Also, the earrings were hairbands before! “Despite looking easy, it was a lot of work, because the pattern of the pants was very complicated I needed to sew some parts by hand. The shoes were also difficult. I bought some cheap boots and constructed a whole new design on them. For example, the golden shoe caps are one of my favorite parts because they are shiny, but still used and broken.” View this post on Instagram Describing the costume as a “solid seven out of 10,” it was absolutely worth it, and it turns out it hasn’t dampened her love for the character. “I also have everything at home for another Rogue costume (young Rogue in her leather jacket she also wears later in the game again)” and we can’t wait to see Skunk step through time and relive Rogue’s past. Until then, be sure to keep an eye on her Instagram for some more stunning outfits!
