  • SSC accused of faking 331mph speed record revealed on Top Gear – Dexerto

SSC accused of faking 331mph speed record revealed on Top Gear YouTube: Shmee150With the automotive world rocked by the SSC Tuatara’s record-breaking run during October 2020, YouTuber Shmee 150 has raised a number of doubts about the credibility of their record. Land speed records are nothing new – ever since the dawn of the motor car, drivers have been competing to go faster and faster in an all-out race to beat each other’s top speeds. With competitors Bugatti having set the previous production car speed record of 304.77mph in a Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, SSC has now obliterated their record… or have they? Top Gear announces SSC Tuatara speed record When BBC’s Top Gear announced the breaking news that the SSC Tuatara had broken the production car speed records, the automotive world went into pandemonium. To break any speed record is an incredible achievement, but to do so by such a massive margin is almost unheard of. The record attempt itself was also unusual in that it was carried out on a stretch of public road. A closed-off section of dead-straight road near Las Vegas provided the setting, totaling seven miles long. Unfortunately for SSC and potentially for Top Gear, a number of popular online personalities and journalists have now called out SSC, claiming that the record is “fake.” SSC World Record run controversy YouTuber Shmee150 has been one such journalist, and put out a very convincing video debunking the record attempt on October 26. The first major issue that he identified is that the tires on the Tuatara were allegedly ‘stock’ tires. Since they were not made specifically for the record attempt (to the best of his knowledge) they would’ve been rated for a significantly lower speed than 300+ mph. Shmee then goes further to discuss the timings between set points on the route. By calculating the distance covered and the time it took for the Tuatara to cover that distance, he was able to work out a rough average speed. SSC Footage slowed down? Unfortunately, the speed between the first and second point that he highlighted is significantly different to that shown by the on-board footage that Top Gear released. According to his calculations, either the onboard footage was slowed down “by around 30%” for some reason, or the figures shown are totally wrong. He also points out that the dashboard was obscured in the first-person view footage, despite the fact the reading should’ve mirrored that of the telemetry. As Shmee points out, the car is always going faster than the calculated average speed, which is a “mathematical impossibility.. you can’t dispute [it].” By Shmee’s calculations, the Tuatara only reached a peak speed of “around 280 miles an hour”. Given that the original video was a Top Gear exclusive, it will be interesting to see how this situation develops.

  • Sommer Ray reveals her brand-new $100k Mercedes-Benz – Dexerto

Sommer Ray reveals her brand-new $100k Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-Benz/Sommer RayFitness model and Instagram star Sommer Ray has unveiled her brand-new car: a Mercedes GLE Coupe SUV, on her Instagram. Sommer Ray is one of the biggest fitness influencers out there. With a combined following of over 35 million on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok, you come to wonder what her sponsorship deals and line of fitness wear are actually funding. Not unlike other Instagram celebrities, a flashy car is often part of the plan, although usually it’s a speedy supercar. Sommer has gone for something more practical, but by no means cheap. Her brand-new car is the Mercedes GLE Coupe, revealed on her Instagram along with the showroom’s, on February 14. View this post on Instagram The car was picked up from Mercedez-Benz of Valencia, in Santa Clarita, CA. The dealership has previously served four-time Mr Olympia Jay Cutler and rapper Tay Keith. If you’re looking to get one yourself, though, you should start saving your pennies now. Prices for a Mercedes GLE Coupe range from anywhere between $76,500 to $113,000, making it one of the most luxurious SUVs money can buy. While you might not expect a car of that size to be particularly quick, this Mercedes is actually pretty nippy. Pushing out 385 horsepower, the 63 S Coupe can do 0-60mph in an insane 4.1 seconds. The car is also pretty stunning on the inside, furnished with hand-crafted wood panels, a touchscreen display, and, most importantly, heated seats. Read More: Who are Julia & Lauren Burch? – Just recently, Sommer’s ex-boyfriend Tayler Holder showed off his unbelievable Lamborghini Huracan, worth around $240,000 new, back in November. Sommer’s successful social media career also ventured into podcasting, with her ‘OHoney’ show alongside fellow Instagrammer Amanda Cerny. However, the show hasn’t had a new episode since May 2020, and isn’t showing any signs of making a comeback.

  • Shmee150 smashes 200mph on the Autobahn in $1m McLaren Senna – Dexerto

Shmee150 smashes 200mph on the Autobahn in $1m McLaren Senna YouTube: Shmee150The legendary German Autobahn: Home to supercar thrill-seekers and adrenaline junkies, its de-restricted sections are a petrolhead’s dream. Taking any car to the limit on public roads is a thrill, but Shmee took it one step further with his McLaren Senna. Doing what Shmee does best, the YouTuber elected to take his million-dollar McLaren Senna hypercar to dinner with his friends, via the legendary German Autobahn. Many automotive vloggers and content creators love the Autobahn for one simple reason – the de-restricted sections. Certain areas are completely devoid of speed limits, letting drivers ‘stretch the legs’ of their cars and push their performance to the limit. The Senna is “Mental quick” Seeing one Senna on the road is a sight to behold, but seeing two of them running at nearly top-speed is almost unheard of on public roads. Thankfully, the lane discipline in Germany is impeccable, meaning that Shmee and his friend could safely explore the upper performance of their Sennas on the highway. Given that Shmee’s Senna suffered an incident while on a motorway (highway) in England, he seemed relaxed despite doing well in excess of 100mph for the majority of his journey. Calling the performance of the Senna “mental quick” and “mind-boggling” it is incredible to see just how quickly the number on the speedo rose under heavy acceleration. Breaking the 200mph barrier Eventually, despite a ‘low fuel’ warning from the car, Shmee puts his foot down completely and breaks the 200mph barrier with surprising ease, topping out at 205mph. While that is a feat that will always be impressive, doing so on public roads with traffic around must’ve been an incredible, yet terrifying experience. With the Senna being such a ‘hardcore’ hypercar, Shmee explains that driving it “takes a lot of concentration” as it is “essentially a race car” that’s street-legal. You can hear all the stones flying up as the car accelerates, not to mention the roar of the mid-mounted engine through the exhaust. Having reached the dinner destination safely and without running out of fuel, Shmee and his companion use the Senna’s wing for an alternative means – as a tray table to hold their pizza! Despite holding the McLaren to the ground at high speed, the high-tech, carbon-fiber spoiler was reduced to a piece of dining furniture. McLaren would likely have a few strong words about that ‘alternative’ use of the wing.

  • Shmee150 shows off “most lavish” Rolls-Royce ever made – Dexerto

Shmee150 shows off “most lavish” Rolls-Royce ever made Shmee150 via YouTubeYouTuber ‘Shmee150’ shared a first look at the Mansory Coastline and Rolls-Royce collaboration, which converted a Cullinan into a luxury SUV that takes comfort and power to a new level. The extremely exclusive vehicle has a limited run of only eight cars total. Typically, the RR Cullinan will go for over $300,000 (about €265,000), but Mansory upped the ante by making the lavish vehicle truly remarkable with their ‘Coachline’ upgrade package. Both the elegant comfort and subtle power of the Cullinan was injected with nautical-themed improvements that dive deeper into the specs, rather than just the vibrant makeover seen on the interior’s design. Shmee150 was absolutely floored while giving the SUV a brief test drive. Even though the custom kit gives the car 40 horsepower (hp) more than the baseline model, the YouTuber had a pristine experience in his brief test run. “It feels a bit like being in a peaceful boat out on a still lake,” he said. “Gently sailing through and, of course, that is the idea of the ‘Coastline.’ And then you put your foot down…” That’s when Shmee encouraged the Mansory Coastline Cullinan to show off some of the power that lets the SUV go from 0-100km (0-60 miles per hour) in five seconds. The loud V12 engine packs 610hp that can take the vehicle to a top speed of 280 kilometers per hour (about 174 miles per hour). But like any Rolls-Royce, the experience of just sitting in the car needs to captivate the driver just as much as revving the engine down the motorway. It’s the details laced throughout the Mansory conversion that betray its outwardly bold appearance. The body is painted in Ocean Blue and Secret Silver details, but it has a bright turquoise interior. It’s almost like looking at a calm ocean surface in the morning haze, but poking your head underwater reveals the bright and lively environment that lies beneath sea level. Mansory had fun with that theme, as seen in the waves throughout the interior (even etched in the carbon fiber detailing), as well as the illuminated headliner upholstery that gives it a “coastal type illumination.” The Mansory Coastline Rolls-Royce Cullinan is an ode to the coasts which thoroughly impressed Shmee150 with its masterclass design, incredible power, and luxurious ride.

  • Shmee150 shares detailed look at rare $6 million Bugatti Divo hypercar – Dexerto

Shmee150 shares detailed look at rare $6 million Bugatti Divo hypercar Shmee150 YouTubePopular YouTuber Shmee150 got a great look at the first model for the Bugatti Divo, a super exclusive hypercar that has a multi-million price tag. The company first introduced the car in 2018 and said that there would only be 40 Divos in production. Before its creators could officially unveil the car, the entire slate was all sold for the asking price of €5m euros each, or about $6m USD. There was a lot of fanfare behind the car for a long time and it’s remained a mystery throughout the years, but they’re soon getting ready to finally hit the tarmac. Shmee got an especially close look at the matte black Divo that has a blue trim along the edges. There wasn’t any test drive, but the owner of the car let the video blogger get a look at the 001 model. The Divo was made with incredible detail that takes a more stylized approach to the aerodynamics in the front grill, as well as the ventilated back end of the bumper. As soon as the engine roared to life, Shmee was surprised by the raw power of that tanky eight liter quad-turbocharged 16 block. After listening to the YouTuber’s amazing McLaren 675LT Spider, the Divo sounded much more deafening in comparison. That’s not to say the McLaren was any less impressive, but the engineering minds at Bugatti succeeded in capturing the elegant power of their brand onto another luxurious hypercar. “The sharp fin [on the back] continuing the Bugatti style philosophy we’ve seen on recent cars,” Shmee said. “This thing was Bugatti’s most dynamic and capable track performing vehicle.” Named after famed French racing driver, Albert Divo, the new Bugatti is powered by about 1,500hp that helps it reach a 0 to 60 in only 2.4 seconds. Comparable to its sister car, the Chiron, in a lot of ways, the Divo takes a style that’s more sporty than other Bugattis. Shmee was floored at getting such a close look at the new hypercar, as it is setting up to take the floor later in the year.

  • Shmee150 reveals why he’s scared to drive his “special” McLaren Senna – Dexerto

Shmee150 reveals why he’s scared to drive his “special” McLaren Senna YouTube: Shmee150Tim ‘Shmee150’ Burton has revealed he’s “scared” to drive one of his favorite cars, the blue McLaren Senna, admitting the amount of money and time it would take to repair the limited release model is “always on his mind.” Named after the three-time Formula 1 champion Ayrton Senna, the Senna is the third edition to the McLaren Ultimate Series. For some though — including, of course, Shmee — the 2017 release is the British manufacturer’s greatest work. That prestige has sent prices skyrocketing since it was unveiled just over two years ago. The 005-edition sold for an estimated £1.2 million at the 48th Scottsdale auction in January this year. That’s nearly 50% more than its 2017 price. Considering how rare the Sennas are, it’s no wonder Shmee admitted he’s “pretty nervous” about taking his own out for a spin. Add to that a lorry driver accidentally put a serious dent in his last year, and he’s got some pretty valid concerns. “I haven’t really driven it after what happened last summer… the incident in July,” he admitted as he took his Senna out of the garage in an April 1 video. According to Burton, the crash hiked up a “huge” bill, even though the damage was all “purely cosmetic.” There were cracks on the right rear mirror, while the door had been smashed right down the middle. The back panel was also smashed. Now, nearly a year later, that shocking incident still plays out in his mind. There was nothing he could have done differently, considering he was simply driving to the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Nothing, that is, except not drive it. “Although it was fairly cosmetic — it was mainly just some body panels that needed repairing — [the crash] still meant the car was off the road for five months. That’s always on the back of my mind,” the YouTuber admitted. “If something happened, that is potentially going to be repeated. That gives me a fair bit of stress, I’m not going to lie. The value of the car, how difficult it is to repair, and how special it is, is always on the back of my mind. “I guess I’m always conscious that I want to drive it on very specific occasions… I don’t want to drive it just for the sake of driving it, like I did that one fateful day where I was just on the motorway in traffic. We were doing 15-20 miles an hour!” For mobile readers, the related segment begins at 8:18 in the video below. That’s not to say he’ll never take it out again. His April 1 video — filmed before self-isolation began — obviously saw him take it out for a spin. He has only done “around 150 miles since that day,” he added, but he wants to add more. “I will try and take it out to events across Europe, when I can again… but that’s off the cards now,” he said. “I don’t think it’s likely though, honestly, that this will be a high-miler. That’s just how it is with cars like this. I’ll savor those moments.”

  • Shmee150 reveals the “most exclusive” BMW M8 Gran Coupe ever made – Dexerto

Shmee150 reveals the “most exclusive” BMW M8 Gran Coupe ever made YouTube: shmee150Tim ‘Shmee’ Burton showed off one of the “most exclusive” BMW cars ever, heading to the dealership to pick up his M8 Competition Gran Coupe First Edition worth over $120,000, one of only eight made. Shmee150 already boasts an ultra-impressive car collection, including a Ford GT, a Mercedes AMG GTR Pro, and his beloved McLaren 675GT, but no car in his collection can match the rarity of BMW’s latest offering, with just eight of the incredible vehicle produced, and only one to be found in the United Kingdom. For the next few weeks, the YouTuber will be cruising around the English countryside in this unbelievable motor and took viewers along as he went to pick it up, showing off all the special touches and designs that make this BMW’s most exclusive car ever. Heading into the dealership to see it, Shmee150 explained that the car’s incredible 4.4 liter, twin-power turbo V8 engine produces an eye-watering 625 brake horsepower. The size of the engine isn’t the main attraction for petrolheads with this car though, as every inch of the vehicle has been specifically designed by BMW to make it one of the rarest vehicles the Germans have ever produced. The interior is covered in reminders that only eight of these will ever be produced, with the headrests and floor mats both embroidered with the term “1 of 8.” On the outside, the M8 logo on the back also references the name, and even the B-pillar that sits between the front and rear passenger windows is emblazoned with the slogan. Not only that, but the car itself is covered in special touches exclusive to it, with bronze-gold grills, wheels, and logos. Even the paint job is incredibly special, with the car coming in an iridescent shade called “Aurora Diamant Green,” which sees the car change color between green and blue depending on where you’re looking at it. “That is because of the Northern Lights,” the YouTuber explained. “There are eight places around the world where you can see them, tying in very nicely with this [1 of 8] car.” If the BMW M8 Gran Coupe First Edition wasn’t exclusive enough already, Shmee150 revealed that the vehicle he was collecting was the only one of the eight that was right-hand drive, making it the “most exclusive” version of the vehicle compared to the other seven, where the drivers all sit on the left. The eight have been sent around the world, with Shmee150 getting his hand on the only one sent to the UK. The United States, Switzerland, Belgium, Russia, Japan, and Qatar all received one each, with the eighth confirmed to remain in Germany, where BMW are based.

  • Shmee150 reveals ridiculous cost of insuring his Ford GT – Dexerto

Shmee150 reveals ridiculous cost of insuring his Ford GT YouTube: Shmee150YouTuber and supercar collector extraordinaire Shmee150 is known for his incredible garage of exotic cars. In his October 13 video, he reveals some surprising news about the cost of living with his Ford GT supercar. The Ford GT cost around $500,000 when new, so you’d be forgiven for thinking that the day-to-day maintenance costs would be astronomical too. According to owner Tim (Shmee150) however, they aren’t quite as bad as you expect. Given that the GT is build by Ford, its hardly surprising that it is often referred to as a ‘blue-collar supercar.’ Though, with its purchase price of half a million dollars, it’s hardly cheap. Being produced by Ford does have its advantages though, as Shmee explains in his video. Supercar ownership costs “vary hugely from one car to the next” according to Tim, and the GT is no exception. Servicing for the Ford GT is on a very strict schedule of once per year or every 5000 miles. This means that drivers that make use of their GTs risk paying for several services each year, though thankfully the costs are impressively low. Thanks to being a Ford product, servicing can be done at Ford dealerships rather than requiring specialist garages. Costing “around 500 bucks” per go, it’s a stark contrast to many supercars such as Ferraris and Porsches that run into four-figure prices for each service. The Ford GT also comes with an impressive three-year warranty package, and can have a majority of its minor work done at Ford dealerships as per its servicing requirements. This saves on shipping the car to-and-from specialists, which in itself is a costly part of typical supercar ownership. Clip starts at 3:00 As Shmee says, for day-to-day life with the GT “there isn’t actually that much to worry about… because it’s a Ford. Most things [consumables] are quite reasonable.” Unfortunately, that’s where the cheap ownership of the GT ends. Due to the incredible performance capabilities of the car, specific Michelin tires are required which came at a “heavier price” than Shmee expected. Insurance is a big kicker too. Tim admits that this is “by far the biggest cost for the car.” In his first year, he paid a staggering £10,000 ($13,000) for insurance on the GT. The second year wasn’t much better, coming down by £2000 to £8000/year ($10,400.) So while day-to-day life with the Ford GT is probably much cheaper than many would expect, just getting it insured to drive on the roads costs a monumental amount; At least servicing is cheap!

The Geneva motor show is one of the largest international motor shows and is often used by the top automotive brands to announce many of their upcoming projects. In his latest upload, Shmee150 got his hands on Zenvo Automotive’s upcoming 2020 release, the TSR-S hypercar. The YouTuber took viewers on a tour of the car, revealing many of the luxurious features the TSR-S had to offer and explained just how impressive Zenvo’s latest model was. “They only make up to a maximum of 5 cars per year and this is Zenvo’s third model, The TSR-S,” he shared,” the name, by the way, TS stands for the twin-supercharged V8 in the back that’s making well over 1000hp.” Shmee continued to show fans around the very exclusive and “menacing” car, highlighting more of its unique features such as its ridiculous power when starting up the engine. Although it is yet to be released, Shmee revealed that the TSR-S was estimated to cost potential buyers near 1.5 million euros before options. • Shmee150 explains why custom prototype Audi SUV is a Lamborghini-killer – Dexerto

Shmee150 explains why custom prototype Audi SUV is a Lamborghini-killer YouTube: Shmee150Built to celebrate 125 years of German tuning house ABT, The ABT RSQ8-R is a limited-production tuned SUV that will leave the likes of the Lamborghini Urus in its rear-view mirror. YouTuber Shmee150 may be best-known for his collection of “Shmeemobiles” but often reviews tuned, limited-edition cars such as this, and he’s a big fan of ABT’s latest creation. Based upon the Audi RSQ8 sports SUV, the ABT RSQ8-R ‘turns it up to 11’ by boosting the power output up to 740hp. With a top speed of 195mph, this tuned SUV beats the likes of the Lamborghini Urus with ease. The looks of this ‘super SUV’ haven’t been left untouched either. Featuring a “monstrous” carbon-fiber body kit, new styling, unique rear exhaust diffuser, and full stainless-steel exhaust system; This bright-green RSQ8-R definitely makes a statement wherever it goes. “A very comfortable place to be” It seems that despite these upgrades and customizations, the car still drives as you’d expect a high-end SUV to, with Shmee calling it “a very comfortable place to be” which may come as a surprise given the extensive modifications made to both the interior and exterior of the car. Shmee has often been vocal about his feelings towards ‘Super SUVs’ calling them “controversial” as they are a clash between two different worlds of automotive styling and characteristics. That said, he is outwardly supportive of ABTs previous models, calling them “a lot of fun to drive,” so this may be the SUV that changes his mind. “King of the SUVs” Immediately he is impressed by the RSQ8-R, making the most of the ‘dynamic’ mode with its upgraded exhaust and performance. Full of praise, he says the handling and response is “quite enjoyable” and that “the steering is 100%,” even comparing it to the Urus itself. Testing out the performance of the ABT edition on the infamous Autobahn, Shmee watches the numbers climb with “phenomenal ease” up to the standard cars’ top speed before having to brake due to traffic. Despite his previous uncertainty around performance SUVs, Shmee himself has been converted by the ABT RSQ8-R, labeling it the “king of the SUVs” and saying “it ticks more boxes than I ever thought it would” – a glowing recommendation indeed.

If you never heard of Roborace, you’re probably not the only one. The AI-focused racing experience has only been around for a few years now and while it’s certainly entertaining, it hasn’t quite hit the mainstream just yet in the same way that something like Formula 1 racing has. Despite this, Season Beta of the aforementioned competition is currently underway and is being streamed on Twitch for the world to see. Of course, it wouldn’t be a race without some spectacular crashes and one happened in an absolutely hilarious fashion on October 29. Roborace is the world first driver-less/autonomous motorsports category. This is one of their first live-broadcasted events. This was the second run. Unfortunately, the camera cuts away before we can see the reaction of the operators, although it’s hard to imagine that they wouldn’t be a little annoyed at that immediate outcome. While it’s currently unknown what the estimated price is for the DevBot 2.0, as they’re all produced specifically by Roborace, this little crash probably just cost the team a lot of money. It’s unknown whether this error was due to a technical error or was down to the “operators”. If fans are interested in Roborace, Season Beta is set to continue until October 30, and will be streamed on the competition’s official Twitch channel the whole time.

Seb Delanney reveals the insane cost of Post Malone’s car collection Glenn Francis / YouTube: Seb DelanneyMulti-award-winning singer/songwriter Post Malone may be best known for his music career and unique style, but it turns out he also has an incredible taste in cars too. YouTuber Seb Delanney took a closer look at his wheels of choice. Unlike many rappers and A-list celebrities, Post Malone (real name Austin Post) doesn’t just go for the latest, greatest and flashiest cars on the market. It may come as a surprise to some, but Post has a soft spot for icons of the classic car market too. A mix of style and performance Perhaps his best-known car is the 1992 Ford Explorer; Tricked-out with Lamborghini doors, oversized ‘spinner’ wheels and a plethora of body modifications, Post actually wrote a song about the car – now that’s love. Whilst the explorer was hardly a luxury item when new, the incredible custom work and modifications must put the price of his ’92 Explorer well into the 5-figure region. Read more: GTA V’s crazy ‘Donk’ cars are a real thing – At the other end of the spectrum is his latest garage addition – an all-white Bugatti Chiron. Producing 1500hp from its quad-turbo W16 engine, Post has been very open about his ownership of this rare $3 million beast, using it in music videos as well as showing it off on his social media accounts. The rapper also seems to have a real appreciation for the classics. Alongside his aforementioned ’92 Ford Explorer, he also has a heavily-modified Chevrolet C10, as well as the gorgeous, and frankly massive, 1966 Lincoln Continental, in white, of course. Costing around $65,000 for a restored Continental; Post has once again put his own spin on the appearance of this American behemoth, likely increasing the cost significantly. For Seb, his personal favorite from Posts garage came in the form of the outrageous $530,000+ 1-of–600 Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster. This is no ordinary Aventador however; Customised wheels, unique decals, and an aftermarket exhaust all make sure that you won’t miss Post if he drives this raging bull past you. It hasn’t all gone smoothly though… Despite his success, it hasn’t all been plain sailing for Post. His previous daily driver was a white Rolls-Royce Wraith, which sadly met an untimely end after being T-boned by a Kia whilst driving around Santa Monica, CA. Thankfully no-one was hurt in the incident, but the car was a write-off. In typical Post Malone fashion though he opted to go big or go home with its replacement. His latest ‘Roller’ comes in the form of an all-white Rolls Royce Phantom 8. Costing a minimum of $455,000, the Phantom 8 is the pinnacle of luxury road travel, whisking post along in style wherever he needs to go.

Clearly a man that enjoys having choices, he has not one, not two but three Rolls-Royces: A Rolls-Royce Dawn ($371k+), Ghost ($312k+), and a Wraith ($340k+). Clearly a fan of luxury vehicles, McGregor has been seen in both a first and second-generation Bentley Continental GT ($199k+) – perfect for relaxed motoring with a bit more ‘get up and go’ than in the Rolls-Royces mentioned above. While Seb doesn’t mention it in his video, Conor has also previously posted a photo of his Lamborghini Urus ($210k+) on Instagram from Christmas 2019. Going for a black-on-black spec, this Urus is a great mix of practicality and performance. As well as the Urus, Conor also has a White Lamborghini Aventador Roadster ($506k+). Powered by a naturally-aspirated V12 engine putting out 700hp, the brash, visceral Aventador is at complete odds with his other, more luxurious cars. Alongside his Lamborghinis, McGregor has also been spotted in a bright Orange McLaren 650s ($257k+). Evidently a fan of bright supercar colors, Conor’s Orange McLaren is certainly not one for him to drive when he’s trying to stay incognito. Even his ‘practical’ cars are incredible It seems that even his ‘practical’ family car is on the ‘brutish’ side of things, opting for a massive Cadillac Escalade ($75k+ when new). This car became famous after a video of him stopping and fist-bumping two men that were staging a ‘mock MMA fight’ on a Dublin sidewalk, which also showed a rare ‘human’ side of McGregor. When staying ‘under the radar’ McGregor seems to favor a previous-generation Range Rover in LA. With the Range ($85k+ when new) being such a common sight in Los Angeles, it’s the perfect car for Conor to go about his life without too much media attention. Seb sums his taste up perfectly by saying “certainly knows how to make money, but he also certainly knows how to spend it!”

  • Seb Delanney reviews Elon Musk’s insanely expensive car collection – Dexerto

Seb Delanney reviews Elon Musk’s insanely expensive car collection Duncan.Hull / YouTube: Seb DelanneyPerhaps best known as being founder and CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk is also the creator of SpaceX, PayPal, and more. While best known for his electric vehicles, Elon also has an incredible collection of classic cars, supercars, and even fighter jets. Despite the squeaky-clean environmental image he is creating with Tesla, it seems that Elon Musk is partial to the odd ‘dirty’ classic car, as well as your typical high-paid CEO love for supercars. Not only does he have a variety of four-wheeled machinery, but Elon also has a soft spot for Russian military hardware, as YouTuber Seb Delanney finds out. Not quite what you’d expect Elon to drive One of the standout cars from Elon’s collection is about as far-removed from Tesla as possible: The Ford Model T. Apparently gifted by a friend, Elon admires the Model T for being the first car to bring private transportation to the masses, in a similar vein to what Elon is doing with electric vehicles through his company Tesla. Elon is also the sentimental type, having kept his first car: A 1978 BMW E21 320i. Bought for $1400, it was Elon’s daily driver for a number of years. Worth far more now, restored examples go for as much as $13,000, so it’s safe to say Elon would make a profit if he chose to sell. Movie cars and electric conversions It seems Elon is a big fan of the James Bond franchise, as one of the jewels of his car collection is a 1976 Lotus Esprit nicknamed ‘Wet Nellie.’ Star of “The spy who loved me” the car was shown as being an amphibious vehicle, having the ability to turn into a submarine. Having bought the car from an auction back in 2013 for $997,000, Elon says he plans to convert the vehicle into a functioning submarine, along with swapping out the engine for a Tesla electric propulsion system. Elon has more than just cars in his collection While the Ford Model T and James Bond car may be unusual, the weirdest vehicle in Elon’s collection is a Russian fighter jet from the 1960s known as the Aero L-39 ‘Albatross.’ Speaking about his love for the plane, Elon says it’s “probably the most fun plane I own… literally just like (being) in Top Gun.” Alongside the oddities and icons in his collection, Elon daily drives a number of his Tesla production cars, as well as having been seen recently in a prototype Tesla Cybertruck in Malibu, CA. There’s also the prototype Tesla Roadster, which is currently orbiting the earth after having been sent into space by SpaceX. With a production version of the Tesla Roadster allegedly in the works, Elon may have to wait a while to get back behind the wheel of a Roadster since his own is now inaccessible.

  • Scammer tries to spend millions on hypercars using TheStradman’s name – Dexerto

Scammer tries to spend millions on hypercars using TheStradman’s name YouTube: TheStradmanWhile on the hunt for his new hypercar, YouTuber TheStradman has encountered a major issue thanks to the actions of an unknown scammer. Having recently sold off a number of his vehicles and released plans for his new home, TheStradman is at a transitional point in his career as a YouTuber. As part of this channel ‘shakeup,’ he is now looking to purchase his first-ever hypercar. In a somewhat un-Stradman fashion, he is taking his time to find the perfect car – no surprise given the insane value of this type of vehicle. Explaining why he’s happy to take it slow, James said he “doesn’t want to go out and buy the wrong car, just to prove to the doubters I can.” Stradman’s search for a hypercar Unfortunately, the process hasn’t been an easy one: TheStradman tells viewers that so far it has been a “fun, (but) painful process” searching for the next addition to his garage, though this process has now become far more complicated than before thanks to a severe case of identity fraud. Sadly it seems that an unknown individual is impersonating TheStradman online, particularly on a classified auction site called JamesEdition. Multi-million dollar cash offers The individual in question has made a number of cash offers on TheStradman’s behalf, claiming that they are in fact TheStradman and using his contact details, likeness and communicating as if they were him. TheStradman is understandably pretty wound up about this. Breaking his usual ‘peppy’ on-camera persona and delivery style, he chose to discuss these events with his viewers in a candid, frank 1-on-1 monologue whilst sat in his Lamborghini. In particular, this individual has made a $2 million cash offer on a McLaren P1 GTR while claiming to be TheStradman. Not only that, but they have also contacted his friends at Pagani Beverly Hills to put in an offer on a Huyara Roadster. Legal action has been threatened While he says that it’s probably someone with ‘good intentions’ TheStradman does go on to say that if this individual doesn’t cease this use of his identity, he will pursue legal action with his attorney. Legal ramifications for identity fraud vary from state-to-state and likely depending on the severity of the fraud, but hopefully, the individual in question will heed this warning and stop impersonating TheStradman.

  • Scammer tries to sell YouTuber Alex Choi’s Unicorn Huracan for $1.5m – Dexerto

Scammer tries to sell YouTuber Alex Choi’s Unicorn Huracan for $1.5m Instagram: Alex ChoiSupercar influencer Alex Choi has mysteriously discovered that his Lamborghini Huracan is up for sale for more than $1million on a website called Carousell. 20-year-old Alex is a YouTuber and Instagram supercar expert with more than half a million subscribers on YouTube and more than 700k Instagram followers. The car in question has been featured heavily on his social media and was first introduced to his followers in April last year. He has previously said that the car “will probably go down in history as being the most controversial Huracan in America”, due to the extreme modification. It looks as though someone is imitating Alex Choi on the Singapore-based buying and selling platform Carousell, and they have tried to scam someone into handing over $1.5 million for his Unicorn Lamborghini Huracan, a car that has drawn lots of attention from the automotive industry in the past year for the work he has put into it. In extremely unusual circumstances, the seller had a verified sticker, joined the website over a year ago, and has been selling and buying other items. Commentary YouTuber Life of Palos reached out to Alex who said that the account was entirely fake and that the car is not for sale. The Carousell platform is popular in Asia, but not in the United States where Alex is from, making it less likely that those looking to buy the car would know whose it was. The Carousell ad also set its location as Singapore. Alex Choi has been convincingly imitated on several other social platforms. A fake TikTok account called @alexchoi.cars has amassed more than 21,000 followers. Alex is not the only supercar influencer to have been the subject of these fake accounts. YouTubers such as The Stradman and DailyDrivenExotics’ Damon Fryer have also been victim to imitators pretending to sell their cars. While it looks as though the listing has now been removed, this raises further concerns about scams within the automotive community.

  • Savage Garage’s Randy reveals private off-road car collection – Dexerto

Savage Garage’s Randy reveals private off-road car collection YouTube: Savage Garage ClipsSupercar owner, entrepreneur, and YouTuber Randy of Savage Garage is well-known for his exotic car collection. In their September 27 video, however, the SG team showcase some of his secret off-road car collection for the first time. With Randy owning so many different businesses, he is able to have a variety of vehicles stored across the country. One of his businesses is SVC, which specializes in custom-built off-road racing trucks and customization parts. Posted to the Savage Garage Clips secondary channel, the video sees the team in a much more relaxed, less-professional manner than usual. Since having their secondary channel, the SG fanbase has had access to previously-unseen footage, along with small clips such as this that didn’t make it to the main channel. Bring out the big guns More accustomed to being seen in multi-million dollar hypercars, Randy is also clearly a big fan of off-roading. Never one to keep all the fun to himself, he lets the team try out one of the Polaris buggies for size. Whether this buggy is genuinely a kids’ toy or just very small is unclear, but Jimbo immediately struggles to fit. With no doors on the car, access is achieved via an awkward gymnastics maneuver. Randy even goes as far as nicknaming it “the clown car” due to the diminutive size. While Jimbo tries out the Polaris by ripping it up and down the street, Randy disappears to bring out the big guns. Putting the buggy to shame, he re-appears in a custom-built off-road racer. Is a SG garage update video due soon? Jimbo tried his best, but was unable to get the Polaris to do any real burnouts or donuts. By contrast, the buggy that Randy was driving would try and pull a wheelie every time he floored the accelerator. With these buggies having such soft suspension and incredible travel, on a tarmac road such as the one seen in the video they behave ridiculously. Corners result in a hilarious amount of body roll, while ripping around the block causes an incredible amount of noise and havoc. Given that he owns SVC, it is unlikely that we’ve seen the full extent of Randy’s off-road collection. With many fans in the comments calling for a new ‘garage update’ video before the end of the year, we may get a full reveal of Randy’s entire collection before the year is out.

  • Savage Garage’s Randy inexplicably pulled over by cops in $2.6m Pagani – Dexerto

Savage Garage’s Randy inexplicably pulled over by cops in $2.6m Pagani Instagram: @alex.choiDuring his time on the incredible Gold Rush rally in North America, YouTuber Randy from Savage Garage appears to have got himself into trouble with the cops while in his Pagani Huayra. Supercar rallies bring together incredible cars, fantastic scenery, and adventurous spirit all in one crazy event. Unfortunately for the drivers, they often make great targets for supercar-hating cops. Unfortunately, it seems that Randy from YouTube channel Savage Garage found himself in front of the police while behind the wheel of his $2.6m Pagani Huayra. Teaming up with Randy for the tour, fellow automotive YouTuber Alex Choi has been providing regular updates via his social media channels. Posting to his Instagram story, Alex shows a series of supercars pulled over at the side of the road by the police, including Randy’s Pagani. While the actual cause of the traffic stop is unclear, Randy was photographed flashing the camera a sarcastic thumbs up pose, complete with a silly face. Whether this was Randy admitting defeat or perhaps just making light of the situation is uncertain, but it definitely got people talking. The clip even featured in a Life of Palos video. Following the photo of Randy at the side of the road, Alex posted a video from the same traffic stop showing the cops taking great interest in the Lamborghini Aventador that they were with. While many other channels such as DailyDrivenExtoics have highlighted police treating supercar owners badly, it seems that Randy and Alex were fortunate enough to be pulled over by a far friendlier team. Alex’s IG Stories can be seen in this Life of Palos video. Clip starts at 2:11. Instead of giving the driver grief for how loud the car was, the police appeared to be genuinely interested. They even went as far as filming it on their own mobile phones. Alex then went on to post a series of videos from within the Pagani to his Instagram story while on the road. Showing that the “cruising speed” of the car was around 165mph, which is obviously well over the posted speed limit. Whether this was the initial cause of the traffic stop is unclear. Either way, it certainly doesn’t help with the negative press that surrounds supercar owners and rallies. With so many incredible cars and YouTube personalities in one place, there will likely be more drama to come from this year’s Gold Rush Rally.

  • Savage Garage takes $9m Porsche Design Tower tour and it’s insane – Dexerto

Savage Garage takes $9m Porsche Design Tower tour and it’s insane YouTube: Savage GarageThe term “dream apartment” is often over-used, but when it comes to the bespoke Porsche Design Tower in Miami it’s justified with an insane car elevator, incredible ocean views, and designer furniture – this really is a petrolhead’s dream apartment. Costing “around nine million bucks” to buy, this four-bed apartment is located in one of the most prestigious and sought-after buildings in Miami: The Porsche Design Tower. Highlights include a private pool and outdoor kitchen for all apartments, ocean views, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a car elevator. The “Dezervator” The car elevator is surely the highlight of the tower for any self-respecting petrolhead. Called the “Dezervator” this automated vehicle lift can whisk drivers and their vehicles from the ground floor up to their own private garage on the same floor as their apartment. Randy from Savage Garage was quick to show off this incredible feature. He explains how the lift is controlled via a remote ‘clicker’ in the car or can be controlled externally to send your car up to the garage without the driver being in the car. Not only is the lift itself automated, but so is the parking process. On arrival at the correct floor, the elevator can spin through 360 degrees to align with an empty parking space. Magnetic arms then stabilize and lock the elevator in place while the car is ‘dragged’ off of the elevator and into its pre-selected parking space. “It’s awesome!” While the car elevator is the focal point of the apartment, the rest of the condo itself is suitably crazy. Custom Aston Martin, Lamborghini, and Italian furniture adorn the living areas of the condo, while floor-to-ceiling windows afford all rooms views of either the ocean or the bay. Strangely enough, one of the features Randy gets most excited about is the toilet, saying: “It’s automated so you don’t touch anything… they wash your butt, it’s awesome!” Each apartment also gets its own outdoor pool and cooking area, but there’s one special requirement as Randy explains: “There are no lights on the deck as sea turtles are born on the beach … they use the moonlight to guide them, so there’s no lighting outside to ensure they don’t get confused.” Between the automated “Deservator” Porsche provenance, designer furniture, and environmentally-conscious design; The Porsche Design Tower Miami may well be one of the coolest apartment buildings in the world.

  • Savage Garage Randy explains why $2.6m Pagani is better than Koenigsegg – Dexerto

Savage Garage Randy explains why $2.6m Pagani is better than Koenigsegg YouTube: Savage GarageWith access to a plethora of gorgeous supercars, Randy from Savage Garage is living any petrolhead’s dream. Despite having so many incredible cars to choose from, it seems that his favorite is the Pagani Huayra, as he explains in SG’s September 14 video. Randy has some incredible hypercars in his collection, the highlights of which are undoubtedly the Koenigsegg CCX and his Pagani Huayra. It would seem that despite the Koenigsegg being rarer and more ‘exotic’ the favorite car for Randy is in fact his $2.6m Pagani Huayra. Owning the car is a “dream come true” for him, and it’s clear he’s completely smitten by the outlandish hypercar. “Spaceship noises” One of the best parts of the Pagani is the open-mechanism shifter on the center console. The Huayra is fitted with a 7-speed sequential transmission, which can be shifted via the paddles “if you just want to fly by” or using the ornate central shifter, which Randy appears to prefer. There are some excessive features too, such as the custom Pagani key. Designed to be an exact replica of the Huayra; Randy says it’s essentially “a $400 Mercedes key with a $7k Sterling Silver body kit!” The $2.6m hypercar also makes a lot of “spaceship noises” which are fantastically entertaining. This was in fact deliberate, as the designer of the Huayra wanted to replicate his love for aerospace engineering, incorporating acoustic features such as making the “immense” turbos sound like jet engines when spooling up. “You could drive in this all day long” Randy also says he’s a big fan of the design of the car as a whole, stating the engineers did “an amazing job” right down to the divisive interior design. Some say it’s ‘gaudy’, but he calls it “stunning… like a fine watch.” In comparison to the Koenigsegg, the Huayra makes a far better ‘grand tourer’ and is much more “usable” on long distances, with it being “super easy to drive” and “very comfortable… the Koenigsegg is comfortable, but this [the Pagani] is way more comfortable.” The power delivery for the Huayra is also incredible, very “smooth” and instantaneous. It hides the speed well, with Randy saying “it’s so fast… it doesn’t feel like you’re doing [high speeds] at all.” Summing up the Pagani, Randy says it’s “truly unique, completely exciting… it’s such a different experience, this is a ‘drama’ car in every way” – clearly the Pagani is the new garage favorite!

  • Russian YouTubers shock the public with crazy transparent car – Dexerto

Russian YouTubers shock the public with crazy transparent car YouTube: Garage54YouTubers Garage54 are well-known for their whacky builds, but this might be one of their best yet. Judging by the public reaction to the car, we’d certainly say so. From building wheels out of tools to running cars on lighter fluid, the team at Garage54 are well-versed in building unusual creations. Hailing from Russia, the team posts on both their Russian channel and their over-dubbed English channel. In this instance, they have transformed an old Soviet-era Lada sedan into a crazy, fully-transparent car. To achieve this, the team cut out the body panels of their old ‘ultra light weight’ lada car which resembles a giant sponge. By the end of the process, all that was left was the metal ‘skeleton’ of the Lada. Next, the car was resprayed from yellow to white, and the panels replaced with what appears to be some form of plastic sheeting. This was riveted onto the frame of the car, then ‘stretched’ using heat to form taught panels. Once complete, Garage 54’s host Vlad casually says “to make it drive, we need an engine. So we’ll put one in.” Long-time viewers of the channel are familiar with their typically laid-back attitude, making light work of even big tasks such as this. Having re-installed the engine, interior and other parts to make the car somewhat road-legal, Vlad then takes it out for a drive. Given how crazy some of their projects are, this car must’ve drawn the most attention they’ve ever received. “This autumn weather is a bit of a downer… lets drive out on the road [and] hopefully cheer some people up” he says, climbing into the car for the first time. Out on the road, Vlad says it’s like “driving an aquarium!” Driving past strangers on the streets, people literally stopped in their tracks to stare at the car. Reactions were mixed, with older generations in particular looking completely perplexed at Vlad’s strange creation. Thumbs up from strangers and phone photos were also a common theme, as many people were shocked by the strange creation. “The car’s appearance is pretty unusual, it’s quite cool. I’m getting looks from both youngsters and older folk” he says driving down the street. Pulled up at a set of lights, a stranger says the car is “sick” while admiring the work. With heads turning everywhere he drives, Vlad and the Garage54 team have truly created a one-of-a-kind car with this insane Lada.

  • Russian Instagram influencer torches his $150,000 Mercedes on purpose – Dexerto

Russian Instagram influencer torches his $150,000 Mercedes on purpose Mikhail Litvin/YouTubeAn Instagram influencer literally set his own $150,000 Mercedes Benz on fire after he got fed up with how his local dealership was repairing it. Several videos of Russian Instagram and YouTube star Mikhail Litvin torching the black GT 63 S went viral over the weekend, with people around the internet both amazed and horrified that someone has enough extra cash rolling around they can just send a luxury car up in flames. But, Litvin’s display surprisingly wasn’t just a random instance of pure, nihilistic capitalism captured on film, as he claims he was sending a message to his local Mercedes dealership and the company as a whole. The saga begins like this: Mikhail bought a brand new GT 63 S (running around $140,000 to $160,000) and somehow, broke the engine five times in a row through various automotive shenanigans. Eventually, he became fed up with how his local Mercedes Benz dealership was repairing the vehicle each time he brought it in, even replacing the turbo kit with one purchased off of eBay at one point. Paying to have sub-par parts installed in his car seems to have been the final straw for the Russian, who filled his trunk up with gasoline and brought plenty of cameras to a deserted field to send his vehicle off with a Viking funeral. After bathing the car in fuel, Litvin lights a Looney Tunes-style trail from offscreen and the poor four-door goes up in a massive fireball. After contemplating all the memories he had in the Mercedes while the inferno raged behind him, the YouTuber drove into the sunset with his new whip, a classic teal Lada that only needed a little bit of a running start to get going. With over 11 million followers on Instagram and 4 million subscribers on YouTube, chances are good that Litvin will be picking up a fly new car sometime soon to replace the smoking heap that was his GT 63 S. Exactly what he’ll replace it with remains to be seen, but we’d bet he’ll have a video out about it when he does.

  • Ridiculously expensive supercar crashes are painful to watch – Dexerto

Ridiculously expensive supercar crashes are painful to watch YouTube: Supercars On The Streets / Citynews TorontoJust because you have a few extra zeroes on the end of your bank balance doesn’t mean you’re a better driver, as these supercar owners prove. Keen to show off their latest purchase, these inexperienced drivers often under-estimate the performance of their vehicles, resulting in disaster. The myth that fast car = fast driver is certainly not true, as so often showcased by the thousands of videos on the internet. Crashing these eye-wateringly expensive cars must be painful to the driver’s ego and their bank balance, but sometimes it even hurts to watch as a viewer. Here’s some of the best (or worst) around: Gembella Mirage GT crashes in New York https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuLTT4SZpf0 This gorgeous limited-edition Gembella Mirage GT is based on the iconic Porsche Carrera GT. Costing over $820,000 and 1 of only 25 made, this isn’t the driver’s first rodeo; He has a past history of crashing supercars and sports cars, having previously totaled a McLaren and a Lamborghini Murcielago SV. He didn’t stick around to confess either, as witness videos show him attempting to drive off after the impact before losing control again and coming to a stop. McLaren 720s crashes into parked Audi R8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pS-6c7VzHm0 Crashing a supercar is bad enough on its own, but crashing one supercar into another is a nightmare. Given that the 720S retails upwards from $301,000 and the R8 from around $258,000 this is one expensive collision. Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened here. It seems that the driver of the 720s was eager to show off its performance along what appears to be a side street in Toronto, but clearly they didn’t appreciate the force that the McLaren would launch forward at. Having lost control of the McLaren, the driver then spins into an unsuspecting parked Audi R8. Thankfully everyone walked away apparently unhurt from the crash, but both cars were totally wrecked, and the driver’s ego probably wasn’t in the best shape either. Lamborghini Huracan Performante crashes in London A classic case of trying hard to show off and running out of talent, this young supercar owner’s day ended badly. Following a supercar event in central London, the owner of this gorgeous $280,000 Lamborghini Huracan Performante decided that a crowded urban street would be the perfect place to try out the launch control on the Lamborghini. As expected, it all went wrong. The driver lost control and veered across the road, smacking into a wall and a tree in one (dis)graceful movement. Clearly this owner has more money than sense, though thankfully no one was hurt and hopefully the driver has learned their lesson. Ferrari California crashed while on test drive Clip starts at 3:20 Crashing your supercar is a painful experience, but what about crashing one that isn’t even yours? Well, that’s exactly what happened to the unfortunate driver of this $200,000+ Ferrari California while it was out on a test drive around Maranello, Italy. Turning left at an intersection, the driver floors the throttle to speed away in dramatic fashion. Unfortunately, when you floor the throttle mid-corner in a rear-wheel-drive car the back end rotates around, causing the car to skid. Evidently this isn’t a very skilled driver, as he is unable to counter-steer and correct the skid in time, resulting in the Ferrari driving head-first into a wall. By no means is this an exhaustive list of supercar crashes on YouTube, but adding up those prices results in a whopping $1,859,000 worth of crashed cars in these 4 videos alone. Fast cars clearly don’t make good drivers.

  • Richard Hammond roasts YouTubers and the cars they drive – Dexerto

Richard Hammond roasts YouTubers and the cars they drive YT: DRIVETRIBEThe Grand Tour’s Richard Hammond is pretty knowledgeable when it comes to all things cars and, after being exposed to some of the cars that top YouTubers are driving around, he had some choice comments for the stars in question. Hammond, who originally made his name as a host on the BBC’s immensely popular Top Gear, has since moved over to Amazon Prime alongside long-time colleagues Jeremy Clarkson and James May. The trio also appears regularly on YouTube channel DRIVETRIBE, discussing all things motor vehicles. Now, during a video uploaded to the DRIVETRIBE channel on May 24, the immensely popular presenter went through different YouTube stars one by one and looked at the cars they had bought. As fans of The Grand Tour will expect, he had some strong comments for some of them. Despite the opportunity to poke fun at a host of internet celebrities, Hammond is actually pretty complimentary about quite a few, including Ken Block and Jay Leno. Leno’s car, for example, a 1954 Jaguar XK120, is described by Hammond as one of the finest cars ever made. “Moving onto Jay Leno and his 1954 Jaguar XK120,” Hammond said. “Quite simply one of the most beautiful cars ever made and one of the best sports cars ever built. And that is a particularly fine one. I’ve watched I believe a video of Jay driving that thing and it is a special car.” Thankfully, for viewers looking for a more cutting edge commentary, Hammond did poke fun at quite a few YouTubers for their wheels. These included Shmee150, whose McLaren Senna was described by Hammond – with a sharp intake of breath – as “a lot of money”. On Rob Dahm’s Mazda RX-7 4 Rotor, Hammond had the following to say: “Wow! Yes! Because a rotor engine is such a solid, robust thing to start with, why not make it more complicated and more highly-stretched? I suspect that represents a good 15 to 30 seconds of unrivaled joy followed by a bang and lots of bits coming through the bonnet.” Other cars discussed included Gigi Papasavvas’ Porsche 911 GT3 and Cleetus McFarland’s Leroy the Corvette. The former was praised by Hammond as a car, but criticized for its awful paint job, while McFarland’s motor was something of a guilty pleasure for the British TV presenter. The YouTubers should probably listen to the comments made by Hammond as, if there’s one thing he’s proven with nearly 20 years of motoring journalism under his belt, it’s that he knows what he’s talking about.

  • Richard Hammond reveals his new car rebuild project – Dexerto

Richard Hammond reveals his new car rebuild project DriveTribeThe Grand Tour host Richard Hammond has revealed his new car restoration project in the form of a Jaguar XK 120 – though it isn’t the only Jaguar he has work being done on. As a part of the iconic Top Gear – now The Grand Tour – trio, Richard Hammond has been able to get behind the wheel of some of the world’s fastest, rarest, and most unique cars. Aside from his on-screen work, the British TV presenter has amassed a pretty nice collection of vehicles for himself as well – though his ownership of a Tesla might be a bit touch-and-go after his almost disastrous charging blunder. Yet, while plenty of the UK is working from home, Hammond is diving into an all-new restoration project. The Birmingham-born host revealed that he, as well as a few mechanics, are working on restoring a Jaguar XK 120 back to its former glory, although it isn’t going to be an instant rebuild. “We’re going for a total restore on this, ground-up,” the DriveTribe member said, showcasing what parts he has for the classic Jaguar. “There are bits missing. The chassis, the engine we have, all the running gear, but this is the key bit – the body.” Though, Hammond did allow himself to jump ahead a few steps and talk about the potential paint job for the car once it’s finished – but the trio couldn’t quite settle on what it should look like at the end. Aside from that, the car reviewer also revealed that he has another Jaguar XK in the works with the same mechanics – but that one is an XK 150 and it is ready to be painted and fitted with a few other parts. As for when he’ll be able to take the pair for a spin and have them back on the roads, that remains to be seen as there is still plenty of work to be done. But, he said he was hoping it was “soonish” and would be keeping fans up-to-date with a few other videos.

  • Richard Hammond reveals his biggest car regret ever – Dexerto

Richard Hammond reveals his biggest car regret ever YouTube: DRIVETRIBERichard Hammond is a man that lives life on the edge. Former presenter of Top Gear and now host of The Grand Tour alongside Clarkson and May, Hammond’s car history is a rich and varied list, but it turns out there’s one car in particular that he really regrets selling. As part of a video for DRIVETRIBE, Richard Hammond – along with Harry Metcalfe – was reunited with his old Ferrari 550 Maranello. What was once a dream car for Hammond turned into one of his biggest regrets, as he explained. Even as the car pulls into the shot, Hammond is already feeling the pain, exclaiming “I don’t want to see it, I don’t want to see it!” Asked about the first memory that hits him upon seeing the 550 for the first time in years, there was only one answer. “Sadly, I can’t help it… it’s the day I had to get rid of it” said Hammond. By contrast, Harry (of Harry’s Garage) said his first memory was “the day I bought it” showing the difference between their experiences. Richard Hammond’s Ferrari 550 Maranello Hammond reminisces about how he used to park it up, then look back at it and go “is that really mine?” After much discussion about the pros and cons of the 550 as a daily driver, Richard reveals why he had to sell it. Casting his mind back to Top Gear days, he said after parking up the Ferrari, a colleague pointed out a tiny leak under the car. Unfortunately, since the V12 550 Maranello is so costly to maintain, what ran through his head was “that piece of oil, could signify my utter [financial] ruin!” Maintenance costs were the least of his issues though, as there were more pressing family matters to attend to. Having moved house from Wales to Buckinghamshire, the Hammond family decided they didn’t like their new home, and moved back to their original Wales house. Sadly, this meant that Richard owed the landlord of the Buckinghamshire house six months rent, which, in his words, amounted to “what [the 550] was worth… it had to go.” Revealing he still loves the car, Hammond said “I still love the thing, it has a majesty to it, a might… it’s a beautiful thing!” Asked if he wants the car left with him instead of going back to auction, his response was “I’m having an extension built at home… do you want to phone my wife? Ugh… I can’t let somebody buy it!” While it’s unknown if Hammond did buy the car back in the end, he was seemingly conflicted about whether to or not. We imagine if he did end up purchasing the car from the auction, it’s only a matter of time before it’s revealed to the world.

  • Richard Hammond reveals details on new Amazon Prime TV show – Dexerto

Richard Hammond reveals details on new Amazon Prime TV show YouTube: DRIVETRIBEWhilst he may be best known for presenting Top Gear and The Grand Tour, Richard Hammond is also a keen scientist and engineer. Relishing the chance to flex his scientific muscles once again, he’s revealed more details about his “very very new and fresh” Amazon Prime TV show. You may remember that back in the early 2000s Richard hosted a children’s science show called Brainiac: Science Abuse. Famed for its plentiful use of explosives and dislike of caravans, Brainiac also introduced generations of children to the wonderful world of science and engineering. Richard isn’t new to the pop-science game Fast forward over a decade since the last episode of Brainiac aired, and Hammond is once again putting on his lab coat to bring ‘pop science’ to the masses in his new Amazon Prime show alongside co-host Tory Belleci in a show that will be “unlike anything that’s been done before” according to Hammond. Tory is no stranger to the world of popular science either, being well-known for his time on American pop-science show Mythbusters. Hosted by Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, Tory also starred alongside Kari Byron and the late Grant Imahara. These two giants of science entertainment aren’t doing things by halves either. In an interview with DRIVETRIBE, Hammond explains that they will be using their “pop science knowledge to not only survive… but to sur-thrive” in their “totally new take” on this style of show. When can we expect to see it? Discussing this new project, Hammond seems genuinely excited at the prospect of being ‘trapped’ on a desert island with only his (and Tory’s) science and engineering know-how in order to survive. Unfortunately beyond the basic details, when asked what he could tell us Hammond responded with “not a lot; Because its kind of all under wraps” so we may be due another update before the show airs. Richard did reveal that the show is currently in the process of being edited. With an expected release date later this year, you shouldn’t have to wait too long to see these titans of science fight for survival.

  • Richard Hammond crashes classic BMW motorbike in hilarious YouTube skit – Dexerto

Richard Hammond crashes classic BMW motorbike in hilarious YouTube skit Drivetribe, YouTubePopular car enthusiast Richard Hammond accidentally “crashed” a classic BMW motorbike while filming a parody of hit TV show, ‘Long Way Round,’ for his YouTube channel. Long Way Round was a popular TV series released in 2004, documenting the journey of actors, Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman, who traveled around the world on motorbikes. Inspired by the classic show, Richard Hammond decided to film his own “lockdown” edition and toured around his courtyard on a classic BMW bike, setting up different points of interest along the way. During his tribute, The Grand Tour host opted for the 1929 BMW R52 as his vehicle of choice and explained that it was the “genesis of the continent crushing BMW’s that Charley and Ewan rode around the world on.” Hammond brought viewers around his yard and jokingly revealed some of his “fortuitous discoveries,” highlighting some of the vehicles in his collection such as the 1969 Porsche 911T and a British Sunbeam bike from the late 1920s. Things did not go according to plan towards the end of his circuit and he took off unexpectedly on the bike, crashing into a nearby door and adding a surprising twist to the Long Way Round parody. Topic starts at 5:36 for mobile users. “It was in gear so when I took it off the stand it just ran off,” he admitted, laughing back at his mistake. Fortunately, the bike was going at a low speed when he collided with the door and appeared to come out of the incident without suffering any injuries. Although the same could not be said for the bike, as he later realized that it received some minor damage and was slightly bent from the impact, “Oh no, I’ve bent it.” Hammond chose to look at the bright side, however, joking that the crash had added some more excitement to his tour, “well that’s a proper adventure now that it has a crash in it.” Despite the brief collision, he was able to finish his trip without much of an issue and even revealed he was considering doing another parody for his channel but ideally one without crashing a vehicle.

  • Richard Hammond’s rookie Tesla mistake almost ends in disaster – Dexerto

Richard Hammond’s rookie Tesla mistake almost ends in disaster YouTube: DriveTribeThe Grand Tour host Richard Hammond almost found himself stranded after making a rookie error with a Tesla Model X – forgetting to give it some juice ahead of a trip. As car owners across the globe have started to embrace the electrical revolution, more and more charging stations have started popping up like gas stations – though, the wait to get back on the road is a little longer. However, when you drive an electric car like a Tesla Model X, you can’t just rely on hitting up a charging point during your journey, it does help to charge at your home too. Yet, that’s a mistake Richard Hammond made during a trip back home from the North of England. Hammond, the popular TV host and car reviewer, posted the video on the Drivetribe YouTube page, showing how he and his wife were headed to the Lake District in the North West of England. On his way up, the 50-year-old showed how quick a supercharged charging point could get his car back on the road – taking around 25 minutes to give him enough juice to complete the journey. Though, on his way back home, he encountered a problem right off the bat. Hammond hadn’t charged his Tesla Model X overnight and, instead, was down to the barebones of a charge. “I’m new to the world of electric cars and I’m suffering with crippling range anxiety,” he quipped, noting that he’d make it to a charging point with around 1% charge left. Timestamp for mobile viewers of 8:30 Though the Tesla had enough power to get him to the next set of chargers, that didn’t stop the former Top Gear host from panicking – almost making a wrong turn and reversing into another car before making his stop. Despite being flustered by everything, Hammond eventually played it cool and tried to joke about what had just happened, though, his wife wouldn’t let him get away with it too easy, poking fun at him not keeping the car charged. On the bright side, it’s probably the last time he’ll forget to keep his car charged.

  • Red Bull Racing team joins Ford, Williams and more in sim racing league – Dexerto

Red Bull Racing team joins Ford, Williams and more in sim racing league Unfortunately, motorsport has not escaped the wealth of restrictions being imposed on public events around the globe. With so many pro-level teams using their downtime to explore esports, could this signal the beginning of the end for traditional racing? In the latest round of news from the V-10 R League, it has been announced that Red Bull Racing have joined the ranks of this new esports championship. Sitting alongside well-known teams such as Williams Esports and Racing Point, it begs the question of whether this is a ‘flash in the pan’ event thanks to the sudden interest in virtual racing. Or, will this shift to esports signal the winding-down of real-world racing? Red Bull are hardly the first to make the ‘jump’ – Professional racing teams including the works Aston Martin and Bentley teams have prior experience in the world of virtual racing, in the ‘Race All-Star’ and ‘SRO E-Sport GT’ series respectively. V10 R-League The all-new V10 R-League is the latest in a series of online racing events that have cropped up over the last few months. With eight teams consisting of three drivers, teams compete head-to-head in a round-robin format. Each year will see two seasons of the V10 R-League run and broadcast, with teams fighting for a prize of £100,000 per season. Featuring seven iconic tracks from around the world and a brand new car designed specifically for the league, it should be a level playing field for all teams which promises some interesting racing. The future of motor racing? With astronomically high entry fees, upkeep, development and repairs, entry into real-world racing series is all but impossible for a lucky few. Esports costs, by comparison, are almost non-existent, with plenty of now-professional players starting out with a very basic home console or PC system. With big championships such as the aforementioned V10 R-League and the SRO E-Sport GT series using the Assetto Corsa Competizione platform, buying and accessing the base software costs less than a tank of fuel, while second-hand sim racing setups are plentiful and offer a cheap way into the world of racing simulators. This accessibility is also seen in the ages of esports players. Red Bulls’ team ages are 25,23 and 30 – showing that you’re never deemed ‘too old’ to get into the world of virtual racing, unlike real-world championships. With its growing competitor and audience bases, low entry costs, and competitive racing; It is possible that major esports championships will see the demise of real-world motor racing over the coming years.

  • Red Bull Racing reportedly in talks to buy Honda’s F1 engine rights – Dexerto

Red Bull Racing reportedly in talks to buy Honda’s F1 engine rights YouTube: Aston Martin Red Bull RacingHaving had their Formula One future thrown into doubt following Honda’s shock announcement earlier in 2020, Red Bull Racing may have found a solution to their engine problems. Following the announcement that Honda will be leaving Formula One after the 2021 season, many Red Bull fans were concerned that the AM-RBR team would be left without an engine. Since Honda supplies the engines for the Aston Martin-Red Bull Racing team, there was intense speculation about what the team’s next move would be. Since their previous engine partners Renault had been cast aside for the Honda deal, it was unlikely they’d go back to them. Similarly, there is almost no chance that the Red Bull team would strike a deal with Ferrari or Mercedes-AMG, leaving their future in jeopardy. Red Bull Racing F1 Engine Rumor Now, a new rumor has surfaced thanks to Twitter user MissedApexF1. This is the very same account that ‘understood’ Red Bull would be making the shift to Honda engines before it was announced. While that does not make it concrete proof, it is a solid track record to back up these rumors. In the Tweet by MissedApexF1, the account states that Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner and team advisor Helmut Marko are looking to buy the IP (intellectual property rights) to Honda’s racing engines. This would enable them to run a continuation program and secure the engines for the 2022 season onward. The pair are apparently in Austria to meet with Dietrich Mateschitz, co-founder of Red Bull, to discuss financing options for the deal. Missed Apex understands that Horner and Marko are in Austria to meet with Mateschitz. the aim of the meeting is to get a sign off on the finance to buy the Honda engine IP Talk of it being badged as Mugen who are already based in Milton Keynes — Missed Apex Podcast (@MissedApexF1) October 6, 2020 Red Bull Racing to work with Mugen? Allegedly, there is talk of the engine being badged as “Mugen” should the deal go through. Mugen is the tuning arm of Honda, and long-time F1 fans will remember that Mugen-Honda supplied engines to the Jordan team in 1998 following Honda’s first withdrawal from the series. Mugen is also based in Milton Keynes along with Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, which means that the two teams would be able to easily work together on the project. According to The Race, Honda has said they are “willing to consider it [the deal], as it wishes to make its exit as painless as possible.” While no formal request or application has been submitted at the time of writing, if the rumor is true, it may be only a matter of time.

  • RDBLA’s Vik on why he’d take a McLaren 720s over a Lamborghini Aventador – Dexerto

RDBLA’s Vik on why he’d take a McLaren 720s over a Lamborghini Aventador RDBLA – YouTubeIt’s hard to go wrong when picking between a McLaren 720s or a Lamborghini Aventador, but Vik from RDBLA Auto Center knows what he’d choose. Both vehicles will set you back several hundred thousand dollars, but the Aventador will be the more expensive option. For many people, they’d see the high price and assume it’s the better vehicle. However, Vik would actually prefer the cheaper one, and laid out his reasoning behind that in a January 27 video. While he talked about some of the benefits the Aventador has over the McLaren, he still prefers the 720s. “It’s just losing traction, so much more comfortable than the Aventador,” he said. “If you were comparing an Aventador S, which is newer like this, it is a little better.” He talks about some of the changes the company has made to make Aventador ride a bit smoother and how the sounds are better, but it wasn’t enough for him to take it over the 720s. “Me, I would take [McLaren 720s], but the Aventador looks, sound, you can’t beat it. No matter what you do you’re not gonna make it sound out of this world like an Aventador. You’re gonna put burbles and fire and pops and it’s just gonna annoy you and you’re gonna take it off.” He does conclude by saying the McLaren is faster than the Aventador, so the speed demons out there will certainly appreciate that. (Timestamp 6:44) RDBLA is a very popular spot for celebrities to get their cars fixed up in Los Angeles, and they even go as far as calling themselves the premiere car shop in LA. The shop is so big that they even offer their own merch for customers to purchase. RDBLA releases several YouTube videos a week that give viewers an inside look at some of the work they while also showing off the latest and greatest cars. With so many different types of cars coming in each day, there’s no telling what viewers can expect with each video.

  • Rapper Ludacris unveils insane new bouncing Maybach truck – Dexerto

Rapper Ludacris unveils insane new bouncing Maybach truck Wikimedia: Toglenn / YouTube: ALL URBAN CENTRALActor and rapper Cristopher Brian ‘Ludacris’ Bridges has had an incredible career, and has now released his latest present to himself – an incredible Maybach GLS 600. Maybach are often seen as the kings of luxury transportation. Alongside brands such as Rolls-Royce and Bentley, they are revered by celebrities and entrepreneurs alike, thanks to their wealthy brand image and opulent interiors. For Ludacris, his connection to luxury and exotic cars goes far beyond his musical career. Alongside his fame as a rapper, he is also one of the key characters in the Fast & Furious universe, playing Tej Parker in the series since 2002. The Maybach GLS is built upon the Mercedes-Benz truck of the same name, but as with any Maybach product, it has been enhanced significantly. Ludacris’ new Maybach GLS 600 On the outside, the entire styling of the GLS has been altered. Deeper bumpers, new wheels, and the typical in-your-face chrome Maybach grille all feature prominently. Inside, this upmarket truck has been transformed into a palace on wheels. Richly-colored leather covers almost the entire cabin, while up-to-date touchscreens, virtual cockpits, and plush interior design transform the GLS to be fit for rap royalty. Powered by a twin-turbocharged V8 engine, the Maybach GLS 600 has 550hp and puts power down to all four wheels, via a nine-speed automatic transmission. The most exciting part of Ludacris‘ new Maybach, however, is the suspension. Ludacris got the hydraulics on his Maybach truck pic.twitter.com/xkkJyGPN4o — XXL Magazine (@XXL) October 25, 2020 Surprisingly, this isn’t a customized setup. The bouncing suspension seen in his release video (via XXL Magazine on Twitter) is a factory-specified setup called E-Active Body Control. While the main purpose of the design is to help absorb potholes and adjust body height to navigate obstacles, it also allows the car to ‘bounce’ as Ludacris has discovered. In the video, he can be heard laughing and shouting as the car bounces up and down like an old-school lowrider fitted with hydraulic suspension. Evidently, he’s making the most of this unusual feature on his brand new car.

  • Randy of Savage Garage raises warning over Porsche Taycan electric car – Dexerto

Randy of Savage Garage raises warning over Porsche Taycan electric car YouTube: SavageGarage/WikiMedia CommonsRandy from The Savage Garage YouTube channel has raised a warning about the all-new Porsche Taycan Turbo S after getting a ride in the all-electric car. Following the impressive creations from Tesla and the need to find a non-fossil fuel future for vehicles, car companies across the globe have been diving into hybrid and all-electric builds for their new releases. The newest to join the electric revolution has been Porsche, unveiling their Taycan as the latest luxury vehicle to become all-electric. Though, with this being Porsche, the German manufacturers have come up with a more sporty model – the Turbo S – and while impressive, some YouTubers have reservations. One in particular is Randy from the popular The Savage Garage collective, who got to go on a ride-along with a Porsche service manager. Even though he and his partner Jimbo were blown away by how quick the car is, noting that it’s faster than a Porsche 919 – the impressive specs it has, and how awesome the charging port spot is compared to other electric cars – the YouTuber still had some concerns about it being potentially dangerous. “It’s fun to a degree, you know, it feels dangerous but there’s something… the disconnect,” he said. “You feel like you’re in that rollercoaster – if anyone ever been on the Aerosmith rollercoaster – it’s one of the fastest accelerating rollercoasters, from there to there to 87mph in like four feet and its such a pull and such an adrenaline rush, that’s what it feels like.” On the other hand, Jimbo explained that he feels it shouldn’t be available to the public because it could cause plenty of crashes. “I think it should be, because it’s going to be funny to YouTube,” added Randy. Even though the car is available to members of the public, it’s not exactly cheap. Getting a Taycan Turbo S will set you back around $206,000.

  • ProducerMichael absolutely slams the McLaren 720s during test drive – Dexerto

ProducerMichael absolutely slams the McLaren 720s during test drive YouTube: ProducerMichaelIt’s not often that many people would be handed the keys to a McLaren 720s and proceed to complain about it the whole time, but that’s exactly what YouTuber ProducerMichael has done in his August 25 video. Being given the keys to a McLaren 720s as a courtesy car is a dream situation for most drivers. For Michael though, it’s a nightmare; Being a Ferrari man through-and-through, he certainly didn’t hold back on his thoughts about the 720s. Immediately it’s obvious that he loves the look of the 720s, being smitten with it before even sitting in the driver’s seat. This example also has a set of custom CEC wheels on it that are worlds apart from the look of the standard McLaren wheels. “You shouldn’t need a degree!” Taking the car through Los Angeles and up into the Malibu canyons, Michael is quick to comment on how ‘fun’ and ‘fast’ the car is, but unfortunately, that’s about the extent of his praise for the 720s. Falling at the first hurdle, Michael was unable to even move his seat or steering wheel into the correct position, find the nav, or turn on the radio. Talking to his cameraman Adam, he sums it up well saying “You shouldn’t need a degree in computer engineering to turn the radio on!” Driving the car wasn’t a particularly enjoyable experience either it seems. Beyond the car being “fun” there’s little that attracts Michael. He complains that the paddle shifters move with the steering wheel, saying its the “silliest thing [he’s] ever seen in his life” while the ride is apparently back-breaking. This is no ordinary McLaren 720s… It is important to note that this isn’t a totally stock 720s. Along with the new wheels, it has also had suspension modifications (which may be the cause of the poor ride) while the exhaust has also been swapped out for a Quicksilver offering. Michael did actually praise the modification to the exhaust system by saying how fantastic it sounded. Unfortunately, this was quickly followed by slating McLaren’s stock system, saying most of their cars “usually sound like lawnmowers!” At the end of the drive, Michael simply sums it up by saying “I would never want to own one” – McLaren was on the back foot from the start of this review, and it seems his love for everything Ferrari was just too strong to let him enjoy the McLaren.

  • Parker of Vehicle Virgins calls out Alex Choi and Daily Driven Exotics – Dexerto

Parker of Vehicle Virgins calls out Alex Choi and Daily Driven Exotics Vehicle Virgins / Alex Choi / Daily Driven ExoticsPopular car YouTubers Parker Nirenstrein, Alex Choi and Damon Fryer have sparked a huge bust-up on social media, with legal proceedings potentially underway for serious accusations made in the public domain. All three YouTubers produce regular supercar content for their audiences. Choi’s channel has over 595,000 subscribers, Nirenstein’s Vehicle Virgins has around 2.2 million, and DailyDrivenExotics –owned by Fryer – has over 2.2 million as well. Choi and Nirenstein have worked together on a number of projects over the years, both featuring in each other’s video content – particularly in the early days of their growth on YouTube. However, unearthed animosity that used to exist between the two has resurfaced. Regular viewers who thought they had squashed their beef from 2017 – where Choi was accused of being arrogant – might have been shocked to see the pair going at it on Instagram on February 9. Accusations raised included reckless driving on Choi’s behalf, Nirenstein apparently taking drugs before drives, among other serious allegations. Vehicle Virgins had previously uploaded a video to YouTube, explaining how Alex Choi “tried to kill him” after driving recklessly in an electric golf kart – which he said was not clickbait. In a post to Instagram on February 9, Nirenstein said: “2 months ago at Racewars, Alex Choi asked to give me a ride to my car in an electric golf kart. I was riding behind the kart on the trailer seat (where people are supposed to sit) and he decided to start going recklessly fast. Immediately I told him to slow down but he didn’t listen, hit a turn way too quickly and flipped the entire kart.” Following the accident, he claims to have suffered a severely sprained ankle, had his camera broken and damaged his clothing – claiming that he should have been compensated for what happened. That was followed up with messages between Nirenstein, Choi and Damon Fryer about whether or not this should turn into a legal challenge in the future. After that, several potentially detrimental pieces of material were made public – or threatened for release – by Nirenstein. Damon Fryer, who runs the popular DailyDrivenExotics YouTube channel, joked about crashing cars in videos after ‘sipping syrup’ before driving. He said: “I don’t think that’s safe for driving? Maybe that’s why you always crash? What a role model. You are 42 with a wife and kids.” Vehicle Virgins later released a tape which he said features Alex and Damon using racial slurs “aggressively,” posted to his Instagram. Following on from this, Nirenstein has challenged Fryer to a simultaneous drugs test to prove that he is clean. In another Instagram story post, he said: “I’m not scared. I’ve been sober for a while now man. Sure I drink, but you’re insinuating to fans I’m doing heroin, crack and lost my mind.” Vehicle Virgins also threatened to reveal details about tax evasion and more crash footage, involving Damon Fryer. Now that previous issues between Choi and Nirenstein have reared their head on social media, if these posts are anything to go by, there’s no doubt that we’re going to see a lot more controversial and bold posts made on both sides moving forward – especially if at least one of these YouTube stars decides to legally challenge the material posted to the public. With private messages, theft accusations, drug test challenges, potential evidence of racial slurs and a high chance of more public outings to come, it’s difficult to predict what this bust-up will bring about next. There’s a lot to unpack already.

  • Paddy McGuinness denies KSI victory during Top Gear guest appearance – Dexerto

Paddy McGuinness denies KSI victory during Top Gear guest appearance Top Gear, YouTubeOlajide ‘KSI‘ Olatunji has become the first YouTuber to drive around Top Gear’s famous test track, but his appearance on the show wasn’t all a success story as Paddy McGuinness denied him victory in a challenge against co-host and former England cricketer Andrew Flintoff. The popular British content creator had a stellar end to 2019, where he reigned victorious in his highly anticipated bout against Logan Paul at the Staples Center in November. Looking to take that winning form into the world of cars, KSI appeared on the popular TV show Top Gear on February 24, only to find himself prevented from another win by a heroic save from one of the hosts during a football challenge. The YouTube star took part in two challenges during his appearance, where he was tasked with recording his fastest lap in a Toyota, but the most entertaining part of the show was certainly the Airbag Football Challenge. For those who haven’t seen the BBC show before, the challenge requires participants to select an airbag from the stand and use the power of the airbag to fire a ball towards a football goal. One of the presenters will play the role of the goalkeeper and the person who hits the back of the net the most wins. Read More: KSI explains why he can never be “canceled” – Just like KSI has earned his stripes in the boxing ring, though, Paddy did the same in goal after pulling off a great save to deny him the victory. He said: “Get that on your YouTube channel son,” celebrating the important stop, throwing punches in the air. “Get me to the Staples Center. Bang bang bang bang!” Moments later, Flintoff popped one in off the crossbar to win the challenge 2-1. Timestamp in video below at 1:50. The YouTube star also had to fend off terrible weather conditions to complete his fastest lap in a reasonably fast car, with pouring down rain, and clocked in with a fastest lap time of 1:53.9. His time equaled a wet lap from popular comedian Romesh Ranganathan but wasn’t enough to knock the likes of Ed Byrne, Tinie Tempah and others down a place in the Top Gear standings. Whether or not he will return to the Top Gear studio remains to be seen, although it’s certainly refreshing to see somebody like him move from the world of gaming and content creation to appearing on mainstream shows. It could pave the way for more in the future.

  • One Percent reveal insane supercar garage with Lamborghini, Tesla, more – Dexerto

One Percent reveal insane supercar garage with Lamborghini, Tesla, more One Percent YouTubeThe hype-machine Fortnite org, One Percent, showed off the insane supercars in their garage which includes a couple of Lamborghinis, an ultra rare Viper, a McLaren and more, among their multi-million dollar collection. A newly formed organization, One Percent is made up of content creator and Fortnite talents Nicks, Kiwiz, Randumb, Formula, Aeolus and Razz. Introducing themselves to the world in early July, the team showed off their insane mansion and now the cars that inhabit it. Though the team had plenty to show in that first take, they came out with another look at the automotive stars in that initial video – giving motorheads a massive treat in the form of their extensive garage. First in the lineup was Formula’s Jeep Wrangler and Randumb’s Tesla 2018 Model 100D. Both utility vehicles but with completely different takes to style and the execution of defining a luxury ride. “I’d say my favorite part of the [Tesla] is just how futuristic it looks,” Randumb said. “It really looks like you’re in a rocket ship. It is by far the coolest experience I’ve had out of any car I’ve ever known.” Then it was Nicks’ turn to introduce the supercar flair with his 2017 Dodge Viper ACR 25th Anniversary Edition. The special edition only had a limited run of 31, according to Nicks and is definitely a marvel to see. If that wasn’t hype enough, the Fortnite streamer revealed his longtime dream car, the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610 riddled with carbon fiber trim. Not to be outdone, Randumb showed off his McClaren 600LT draped in a black finish that can push up to 201 MPH with its 592 horsepower. He likened the back of the car’s design to “something out of a Batman movie.” He couldn’t show his Lamborghini LP 640 due to a future project, but it was a great segway to showing off Formula’s baby blue Huracán LP 610. The collection in the One Percent House is impressive to behold and since the team likes to experiment with different forms of content, don’t be surprised if you see these vehicles make more than a few appearances down the line.

One of a kind $2.5m Bugatti Veyron disaster crash caught on camera Instagram: @ch_cars_spotting / @nikita_osipenko[jwplayer 8DEtsRyX] Racing high-price hypercars is always a risky business, but racing a one-of-one Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse L’Or Blanc is akin to racing an original Picasso or Warhol: if it breaks, it cant be replaced. Unfortunately for this driver, it did indeed break, and in spectacular fashion. Taking part in the Supercar Owners Circle Club, a drag racing event which was held at Swiss Airport Gstaad, the Veyron was one of many multi-million-dollar hypercars that were in attendance. Flanked by the likes of Koenigseggs, Zondas, Ferraris, and Lamborghinis, the Bugatti was in good company. Unfortunately for the driver, in this one-off special edition Bugatti, they will always be what the event is remembered for. Many videos posted to Instagram show the Bugatti being pushed to the limit racing head-to-head with other attendees, but this is when disaster struck for the Veyron. Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse L’Or Blanc crash As the $2.5 million hypercar flies across the finish line and past the cameras, the sound of screeching tires fills the air. The crowd can practically be heard holding their breath as the Veyron careers towards a make-shift track boundary built from hay bales. The driver applied the brakes so hard in fact, that the Bugatti’s airbrake deploys as he heads towards the bales. Sadly despite slamming on the brakes, the one-off Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse slams into the hay bales at the end of the runway. Video credit : @onlycars38 — #TheSupercarSquad No serious damage According to an attendee at the event (as reported by CarScoops) the Veyron did manage to escape serious damage, though one of the fins on the right air intake was cracked in half. Since it is non-repairable, a whole new front bumper (complete with the one-off L’Or Blanc paint scheme) will need to be sourced and painted, which will be a hefty bill indeed for a few moments of Insta-fame. Despite the steep repair bill and dramatic ending, the most important thing is the driver is unscathed. Cars can be repaired, people can not. Though the driver’s ego is probably suffering from some pretty incurable damage at this point.

  • Ninja explains his biggest fear with self-driving cars – Dexerto

Ninja explains his biggest fear with self-driving cars Twitch: NinjaTwitch streamer Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins has revealed his biggest concerns with the self-driving technology being developed by companies such as Tesla and NIO. Over the past two decades, cars have advanced rapidly with companies like Tesla focusing on sustainable travel and developing ground-breaking technology. According to Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk, traveling in a self-driving vehicle will eventually be safer than controlling the car yourself. This belief was even echoed by Joe Rogan on his podcast, with the popular host telling his listeners that he believes automated travel is the future. Despite this, not everyone is fully convinced that self-driving technology is ready to replace human instinct and reaction. In a recent video, massive Twitch streamer Ninja addressed the topic of automated vehicles and shared his biggest concerns with the technology. Ninja shares his thoughts on self-driving cars In a recent AMA video, Twitch streamer and YouTuber Ninja revealed why he’s not fully convinced self-driving cars will be safer than vehicles controlled by humans. The popular gaming personality expressed that he’s concerned an automated vehicle wouldn’t be able to prevent an accident from occurring. With so many potential risks from other people on the road and mistakes spurred by human error, Ninja finds it hard to believe a self-driving car could handle those kinds of scenarios. “Human error right? There are going to be way too many people who are relying on the self-driving car to handle accidents or like be able to react to something quickly, that’s not going to happen,” he said. It’s easy to see why Ninja has some doubts about the consistency of self-driving cars with so many examples of the technology going wrong. As with all technological advancements, self-driving cars are still a work in progress and will need to be absolutely perfect before they’re fully integrated into society. It’s difficult to know whether automated vehicles will ever replace the standard manual car, but it’s clear a lot of people firmly believe self-driving technology is the future and are excited about its arrival.

  • Nico Rosberg reveals insane way they test electric hypercar batteries – Dexerto

Nico Rosberg reveals insane way they test electric hypercar batteries YouTube: Nico RosbergWhile traditional gasoline or diesel-powered cars are simply crash-tested for safety, the electric motors in EVs are a lot more complex. While visiting Rimac to see his all-new hypercar, F1 ace Nico Rosberg discovered the dramatic way that manufacturers safety-check EV batteries. If we said to you that testing EV batteries involved a lot of fire, many people wouldn’t believe us. Well, it’s true, as F1 star Nico Rosberg discovered while visiting the Rimac factory in Croatia, Europe. Gasoline-powered cars are crash tested in a very conventional way. Cars are mocked-up, and put through a series of scenarios to test their structural integrity, including the safety of the gas tank. With electric vehicles (EVs) having complex battery packs in place of gas tanks, the testing process is a lot more involving, and certainly just as dramatic to watch. Nico Rosberg visits Rimac factory While visiting the Rimac factory to see the progress of his all-new 1900hp C_TWO electric hypercar, Nico was treated to a tour by owner Mate Rimac. They discovered a number of fascinating insights into how the C_TWO is being built and tested, but the safety checks for the batteries seem like something out of this world. To ensure the batteries are safe (homologated) for use in EVs, they are literally set on fire. Since the lithium-ion inside the batteries is so flammable, they have the potential to burn for days on end. Therefore, they need to be tested substantially before they are approved for use. Clip starts at 13:15 The test process itself is wild. A fully-charged battery is placed above a vat of burning fuel, and passed through the flames a number of times on a mechanical rack. After 30-seconds in the flames, the battery is removed, and the flames must extinguish themselves within five seconds to pass the test. As Mate Rimac says in the video, the extensive testing is partly due to people being “very cautious” of such new technology. Thankfully, the batteries used inside the Rimac C_TWO passed the test with flying colors, but not every test goes so smoothly. With the recent legislation brought out in both the state of California and England to move forward the deadline of all new cars on sale being electric, we will likely see more and more EV hypercars in the years to come.

  • NELK Boys’ Jesse makes dad tear up by giving him his dream car – Dexerto

NELK Boys’ Jesse makes dad tear up by giving him his dream car YouTube: NELKTicking off another one of his bucket list items; Jesse from the NELK Boys crew surprised his dad with a new Dodge Challenger muscle car out of the blue, and the reaction from his dad was better than ever imagined. With everything going on at the moment, sometimes a nice heartwarming story is just what the doctor ordered, and Jesse from team NELK has delivered in a segment featured in the latest NELK video. Having moved into the ‘full send house’ with the rest of the NELK Boys back in March, Jesse wanted to tick another item off his bucket list by bestowing his father with a gift that he’s always wanted to give him; An American muscle car. This is no ordinary muscle car though. Jesse gave his father a satin grey Dodge Challenger which appears to have been modified, with an enlarged ducktail spoiler and likely an upgraded exhaust system judging by the sound it makes as he arrives. Clip starts at 15:05 An incredible reaction With the whole team around him, Jesse steps out and tells his visibly-shocked dad “hop in buddy, it’s yours!” to thunderous applause and screaming from the NELK team. His dad is clearly taken aback by this incredible gesture of generosity. Initially speechless, he tentatively stars exploring the vehicle and trying to process what’s going on in front of him. Eventually having sat in the driver’s seat of the Challenger and once he’d regained composure, he tears up and thanks Jesse again before taking the Dodge out on the open road for the first time. Taking the car out onto the highway, Jesse’s dad is still shocked, asking Jesse if the car is really from him, and calling it “absolutely unreal.” The Challenger sounds incredible as it’s driven hard up to highway speeds, with the V8 engine roaring away under the hood. Arriving back at the house, his final words in the car are “unreal… this is sweet. Thanks Jess, I love you more than before!” Clearly this was an emotional experience for them both, but it’ll be one that Jesse and his dad will no doubt treasure forever.

  • Mysterious Bugatti hypercar teaser goes viral – Dexerto

Mysterious Bugatti hypercar teaser goes viral Instagram: @bugattiBugatti is well-known for making some of the greatest hypercars the world has ever seen. They also seem to be pretty savvy on social media, and have gone viral as a result of their latest teaser campaign on Instagram. Despite their future being an uncertain one, with rumors about being sold off by parent company VW, Bugatti seem to be steaming ahead with their next hypercar build. The age-old brand has also brought themselves firmly into the 21st century, choosing to ‘tease’ the new performance car on their Instagram account to over 13m followers. Clearly, this method of drumming up interest for the brand has paid off. In the 20 hours since posting the image (at the time of writing) it has been splashed across all corners of the internet. From Twitter to re-shares on Instagram and even news outlets, Bugatti have truly gone viral. Bugatti’s Instagram post goes viral All of this interest stems from one simple teaser post. Showing what appears to be the tail lights of a new car, the caption simply states “What if …?” The post itself shows a set of x-shaped tail lights, set against a pitch-black background. Having enhanced the image, it all but confirms that we are indeed looking at a set of tail lights. The white light at the ‘front’ of the photograph also appears to be coming from a set of headlights, suggesting this is a new car. Are Bugatti teasing a new hypercar? Other than that, viewers have been left to let their imagination run wild. While the Divo – released earlier this year – was simply an updated Chiron, many are saying the expect this to be a brand new car. The x-shape lighting is also unlike anything ever seen from Bugatti before, and could herald a new design age for the brand. Having recently lost their stake in the world speed record for a production car to the SSC Tuatara, this may be Bugatti announcing their comeback. Their press area also states that a “digital world premiere” is coming soon. No doubt we’ll be seeing more of this usual spaceship-like design in the months to come.

  • MrJWW left speechless by “incredible” new $358k McLaren 765LT – Dexerto

MrJWW left speechless by “incredible” new $358k McLaren 765LT YouTube: MrJWWWith the release of their all-new ‘long tail’ (LT) car, the 765LT, McLaren is looking to once-again recalibrate customers’ expectations of a road car. YouTuber MrJWW got hands-on with the new McLaren 765LT, and revealed the stats of this insane $358k supercar. When the McLaren 720s was unveiled for the first time during 2017, it completely rewrote the rulebook of what a road-going supercar was capable of doing. Now, McLaren is going after their own title with the all-new McLaren 765LT. YouTuber MrJWW is well-known for his no-nonsense approach to supercar reviews, and his video with the 765LT is no exception. In all honesty, there is no need for fancy presenting styles here – the stats of the car alone are enough to boggle the mind. “It resembles a posh cheese grater” JWW admits he is “almost nervous” to drive the car for the first time, after how shockingly good its predecessor – the 675LT – was. “The ethos is less weight, more power – which is music to any petrolheads ear” Weighing in at an incredible 80kg less than the 720s, the new LT has the performance to match its aggressive styling. Powered by a 754hp twin-turbo V8, the 765LT does 0-60 in just 2.6 seconds, and 0-124 mph a full second quicker than a Porsche GT2 RS. It’s also the first time McLaren has ever used a fully-titanium exhaust system. Culminating in a striking quad-shotgun-style rear exit which combined with the rear engine panel “resembles a very posh cheese grater.” “Unbelievable speed” Out on the track, JWW is left speechless by the shocking performance of the 765LT. On the long straight at Silverstone Circuit, he reaches “unbelievable speed” before running out of things to say. Eventually, he admits “I can’t… I don’t know if I’ve ever been in a car that does that [speed] there!” The performance even completely gets the better of him within a lap, saying to the camera “I’m just going to shut up and point you forwards!” “Look, I know I say this a lot with McLaren [cars] but you know what… they’ve gone and done it again. It’s gob-smacking on the track, what it must be like on the road… I don’t know!” With a summary like that, we wouldn’t be too surprised to see a 765LT end up in the JWW garage soon.

  • Most annoying car mod prank revealed and anybody can do it – Dexerto

Most annoying car mod prank revealed and anybody can do it YouTube: Chickensan / Mike on PexelsSometimes simple pranks are the best, and this crazy car prank is testament to that. Best of all, it’s incredibly cheap and easy, so anyone is able to do it. Remember the rubber chicken memes from 2019? Well, it seems that those pesky rubber animal toys are back for 2020, starring in this hilarious Tweet from Klara_SJO. While the prank of sticking items up car tailpipes is as old as the automobile itself, this prank seamlessly blends 21st-century meme culture and age-old tricks together into one annoyingly loud practical joke. Hilarious rubber chicken car prank In the video below, the prankster can be seen inserting three of the infamous rubber chicken toys into the exhaust pipe of a truck. It appears that they have been modified for the prank, being tied together on the end of a central air pipe. When the truck is started, the haunting screams of the rubber chickens ring out around the local area. While loud enough on idle, once the truck starts driving the noise really begins to amplify. Under full throttle, the screaming noise from the chickens is enough to drive anyone insane. Despite the ridiculous noise, it would be hard not to see the funny side of this. Imagine hearing that driving down your street at 3am. pic.twitter.com/hcHG95BpWN — Klara Sjöberg (@klara_sjo) October 21, 2020 “Imagine hearing that driving down your street at 3am” said Klara on the video. As the truck pulls away the noise echoes around the docklands with a surprisingly loud projection. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that this prank could be carried out on a public road, or for an extended period of time. While the exhaust gas does escape from the ‘chickens’ it would eventually build up too much pressure in the system, potentially causing the truck’s engine to backfire. Not only are there mechanical issues, but there is a strong likelihood someone would call the police or report you. That being said, this simple prank would be a great way to get back at your annoying neighbors, but maybe warn others in the vicinity first!

  • Modeling to McLarens: Behind the wheel with Lindsay Brewer – Dexerto

Modeling to McLarens: Behind the wheel with Lindsay Brewer Will ColletteWill Collette is an automotive YouTuber, photographer, and influencer manager. He works with many of the biggest names of the motoring scene, including the likes of Stradman, DDE, Life Of Palos, and many more. Each week, he’ll take you behind the scenes of the shoots of some of the biggest automotive influencers. We begin with Lindsay Brewer, the model and racing driver, who has recently been sharing her passion for cars more regularly with her 1.2m followers on Instagram. I met Lindsay when walking around Sunset GT, one of LA’s finest car meets. Sponsored by O’Gara Coach, it’s known for showcasing some of the world’s rarest vehicles and you can expect to spot everything from the record breaking Koenigsegg to a one-off Pagani. We were both checking out a Chiron at the top of a Beverly Hills parking lot when we met. I recognized her as I was already following her on Instagram and was aware of her fashion and lifestyle shoots. However, after chatting for a few minutes, I found out that she had a real passion for all things automotive. “I love these types of events, but I don’t know how I can share all this with my followers,” explained Lindsay. She already had a proven background in automotive racing, but she just wanted to showcase it with her fanbase. A year later, as her new manager, I am helping her do just that. “I’ve been karting ever since I was a kid,” she says. “My dad always had me around cars. This isn’t something new, everyone is just seeing it for the first time.” Lindsay had tired of holding back her true passion – kicking ass on the race track. She is currently training for GT4 for McLaren, and you can find her turning and burning behind the wheel of her Gintani tuned BMW on the streets of Los Angeles, or hitting the apex on tracks like Thermal Club. Now, before you think she’s another Supercar Blondie, understand that she’s not. While Alex has grown an impressively large audience surrounding herself with the world’s rarest vehicles, Lindsay will be more of a track monster. Lindsay doesn’t claim to know all the fun facts car nerds like to rattle off at the meets, but she does hold a level of respect on the track. I’ve personally been in the car while she’s driving, and I can say that she moves terrifyingly fast in the canyons. She’s familiar with everything her BMW can do, and god forbid she asks me to ride along when she upgrades to a faster ride. We recently took a cruise through Angeles Crest, a famous canyon run in LA, with some car friends. Lindsay let the tires skid as she went 90 on a hairpin, parked at the top of the mountain and checked her reflection to literally fix her hairpin. Also, in the rear-view mirror were the Lamborghini SVJ and the 2020 GT500 she absolutely left in the dust. What can we expect from the LA based driver? Well, she’s dropped a few hints to this racing lifestyle in the past, but plans to go all in on the automotive lifestyle in these upcoming months. If you love supercars, car meets, exclusive shows and racing, you can follow her on Instagram @lindsaymariebrewer and subscribe to Lindsay Brewer on YouTube. She’ll be doing more rallies near LA, car shoots and vlogs on her YouTube channel, and definitely some racing in the fall.

  • Mighty Car Mods reveal the cheapest way to turbo charge a Toyota Yaris – Dexerto

Mighty Car Mods reveal the cheapest way to turbo charge a Toyota Yaris Mighty Car Mods, YouTubeBuying a $169 turbo charger on Ebay and attaching it to a car might sound like a crazy idea right off the bat, but two popular Australian YouTubers went one step further by sticking it on possibly the most unfitting vehicle you could imagine. Mighty Car Mods is an incredibly popular car modding YouTube channel, ran by both Blair Joscelyne and Martin Mulholland, who often present their audiences with different vehicle modification challenges – with some wonderful, and others pretty wacky. This time it was certainly on the wackier side of things as the pair shocked viewers by trying to attach a budget turbocharger, which they suspected was a direct copy of another manufacturer sold online for cheap, to a mighty Toyota Yaris. Or as they called it, their very own ‘Yaris Hilton.’ Explaining the project they were undertaking, they posted the following in the video description: “After buying the cheapest Yaris we could find, we realized that it had a 1.3L engine instead of the more powerful 1.5. So we did the only logical thing and engine swapped a 1.8 from a Corolla. But now we’re looking at launching into the stratosphere with even more power.” They did, however, run into some difficulties while working on the car. With the engine sitting in the way of where the turbocharger was going to need to be placed, some things needed moving around slightly. So, coming up with a creative solution as always, Martin loosened some bolts and twisted the turbocharger into position to make some space. While he was working on the car, Martin made an interesting comparison to one of Volkswagen’s vehicles. He said: “This [after the mods] is basically a Golf R because the turbo is going to be in the same place as a Golf R, and it’s a four cylinder, it’s going to be powerful, reliable, stylish, and mildly boring but awesome at the same time.” Timestamp in the video below at 7:33. After making a few more steps to get that turbo locked in tight and ready to go, the modders took some time to discuss just how much this customization cost them for the making of the video, compared to what it would be for the general public when buying a kit. “We’re looking at, including the manifold, around 910 US dollars for all of the hardware to turbo the car. Now, that doesn’t include management, as you’ve put more air in the car so now you need more fuel,” Martin said, before breaking down the conversion rates for different countries. That means that to turbo a very much not non-turbo vehicle like the Toyota Yaris, the boys spent $1,322 (AUD) or £700, for those interested in giving something like this a try themselves. The price, they estimate, to get this type of hardware job done using a kit – including labor – would be around $3,195 (USD). With some things to tidy up after the video came to a close, expect to see the finished article roaring across the road in a future Mighty Car Mods video on their YouTube channel.

  • Michael Jordan’s GOAT car collection revealed: Ferrari, Porsche, more – Dexerto

Michael Jordan’s GOAT car collection revealed: Ferrari, Porsche, more YouTube: Seb DelanneyBasketball player, entrepreneur, and public figure Michael Jordan is one of the greatest of all time, in many ways. As you may expect, with great wealth comes a great collection of cars, and Jordan is no exception, as YouTuber Seb Delanney discovers. Michael Jordan is often referred to as the G.O.A.T – The Greatest of All Time. Famed for his years with the legendary Chicago Bulls, MJ has gone on to establish himself as an icon in both the sporting and the fashion world, thanks to his line of ‘Air Jordan’ shoes. With his great success and net worth of over $2 billion, he has been able to afford a lifestyle so lavish that you’d be forgiven for thinking he’s royalty. As part of that lifestyle, Michael Jordan has a collection of cars many can only dream of, as Seb Delanney found out. Michael Jordan’s insane car collection When Jordan first signed to the Chicago Bulls, he struck a deal with a local Chevrolet dealership for promotional work. This lead to them gifting him his first exotic car in the form of a C4 Chevrolet Corvette. From the C4, MJ went in the total opposite direction and opted for something with a distinct touch of class, buying an Aston Martin DB9 V12. While an incredibly expensive car at the time, this was during his peak years, and therefore he was easily able to afford the Aston. Clearly not a fan of sticking with one style of car, Jordan also owned a ‘slant nose’ Porsche 930 Turbo. An incredibly rare car, today they go for upwards of $200k. Perhaps his most famous car of all time is the black Ferrari 512 TR that Jordan was often seen in. Reportedly, MJ paid $221,000 at the time for the 512. Not only is the car awesome, but his vanity plate ‘M AIR J’ has to be one of the best ever put onto a Ferrari. MJ’s 512 wasn’t his only Ferrari, as he also had a 550 Maranello for a short time. Powered by a V12 engine mounted in the front, the 550 had over 470hp and could do 0-60 in 4.2 seconds. MJ has a thing for V12 Ferraris it seems, as he also reportedly owns a Ferrari 599 GTB, which shares its engine with the Enzo. The most iconic car in his collection among petrolheads has to be the McLaren SLR 722. With its dihedral doors, exaggerated styling, and incredible power output (617hp) Delanney calls it “the ultimate statement car” of the time. There are also a number of other cars that he is rumored to own, but cannot be confirmed. These include the iconic Bugatti Veyron, Porsche Carrera GT, Ford GT, and numerous other Ferraris and Lamborghinis. With his confirmed car garage valued around $2,461,000, the rumored cars could easily push it well beyond $5 million if true. Definitely one of the greatest collections of all time.

  • Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 vs Audi S3 Saloon CarWow challenge comparison review – Dexerto

Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 vs Audi S3 Saloon CarWow challenge comparison review carwow, YouTubeCar enthusiasts looking to invest in a saloon car have thousands of options in front of them, but after seeing CarWow’s YouTube show pit both the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 and Audi S3 against each other, you might be tempted to splash out. The YouTube channel boasts over 3.3 million followers on the platform, posting regular car reviews with an in-depth look at the hottest sets of wheels in the industry, while also providing its loyal following with other content such as drag race videos, head-to-heads, and more. Speaking of head-to-heads, on January 21 they posted a video including both the Mercedes-AMG and Audi vehicles mentioned, in an attempt to find out which would be the best to drive from the two. The presenter for this video was Mat Watson, who aptly described both of these as “desirable” saloon cars right from the outset, but he wanted to know which one was the best. In order to do that, he picked a few different aspects of the vehicles to compare – including their launch, technology, design, sound, practicality, and finally something that’s very important for a lot of drivers… Finding out which is the most fun. So, let’s take a look at the video and crucially, the findings. Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 profile Performance Just to give you an idea of how they stack up against each other, the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 has a 2.0 litre, four cylinder turbocharged engine, 306hp, four wheel drive, and its manufacturer says it can do 0-60 in 4.9 seconds. Yet, in the video it actually hit 60 in 4.7 seconds. Design (exterior) The design of the CLA 35 is slick to say the least. In the review, too, Watson wanted to emphasize just how impressive its design was by making a comparison to another model from Mercedes. He said: “Some of you may be wondering why the heck I haven’t got the A35 Saloon [in the video]. Well, the reason is the CLA is only a little more expensive and let’s be honest, it’s the one you would have because it’s just looks way sexier. In fact, I really like the look of it.” Key features include the sporty rear diffuser, new badging, boot-lip spoiler, 35 grill featuring two slats, no huge wing like we’ve seen in other models, low to the ground with its suspension, and looks “meaner” with blacked out elements as well. Overall, Mat said this car was easily the best in terms of exterior design. Design (interior) Straight off the bat, the inside of the Merc looked a lot more complex than the Audi – and looked more modern. “I tell you what, the inside of this CLA just makes that of the S3 look absolutely old as the hills – love it – so modern,” Mat said, although he had to admit that some of the materials selected were “cheap” to feel. Take a look yourself. The entertainment built into the car, this reviewer says, is the best around right now. Sound The way an engine sounds is important for some drivers and particular focus was given to it in this CarWow video. When revving in a stationary position, the Mercedes sounded better by a mile. The same verdict was given about the cars when driving, too. Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 price This vehicle’s price starts at £40,000 (around $52,000) and final prices will be determined on which specifications are picked by the buyer – according to CarWow. Audi S3 saloon Performance In the case of the second car in this review, the Audi S3 saloon also has a 2.0 litre, four cylinder turbocharged engine, with 300hp, and a dynamic mode that activates a speedy launch system, similar to the Merc’s Sport+ feature. After activating dynamic, sports mode and stability controls, the four wheel drive car blasted out of the blocks in the speed test and hit 60mph in 4.3 seconds – meaning its acceleration just pips the CLA 35. Design (exterior) The sporty front bumper, boot-lip spoiler, S3 badge, rear diffuser, four exhaust pipes, low suspension, and side skirts makes this vehicle a really eye catching one in the video and on the road. Audi also offers the chance to change the color of the front of the vehicle, its wheels and wind mirrors with the black pack. Design (interior) “One thing Audi always does well is with their interior quality and it’s no different with the S3,” Watson said, brushing his hands around the sporty steering wheel, gear stick, upgraded sport seats with fixed headrests and more. There are optional red stitching and surrounds for other features that are available with this vehicle. There’s a pop-up screen inside the car, too, which makes it look a little dated, according to this reviewer. Sound When stationary, just revving, the Audi wasn’t the most impressive to listen to. However, it sounded much louder on the road, but still wasn’t enough to get the nod from CarWow when pitted against the CLA 35. Audi S3 saloon price This vehicle’s price starts at £39,000 (around $51,000) and final prices will be determined on which specifications are picked by the buyer – according to CarWow. They are, side-by-side, very similar in that respect. Verdict With so many indicators and comparisons looked at during the course of the in-depth video, including price, design, launch, speed and specifications, Mat Watson suggests that the price will ultimately make up many people’s minds. However, all things weighed up, he went with the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35… but what would you choose?

  • Matt LeBlanc’s classic car collection is nothing short of extraordinary – Dexerto

Matt LeBlanc’s classic car collection is nothing short of extraordinary YouTube: BBC AmericaWhile many were surprised to see Friends star and sitcom actor Matt LeBlanc as one of the hosts for BBC’s Top Gear for a stint, it turns out LeBlanc is in fact a massive petrolhead, and has a collection of classic cars that is the stuff of dreams. Anyone that has watched Friends knows the scene where Matt’s character Joey pretends to own a Porsche. Well, it turns out that there’s a degree of truth in that scene — LeBlanc is a massive fan of the Porsche brand, and has a number of their cars in his fleet. Unlike most celebrity car collections, however, Matt’s is a lot more classic-oriented than most. From early air-cooled Porsches to unusual Jeeps, he has a classic for almost any occasion, as well as a number of cutting-edge supercars for good measure. Matt LeBlanc’s incredible Porsche collection Porsche clearly hold a special place in Matt’s heart. From the air-cooled ‘widowmaker’ 930 911 Turbo to the cutting-edge 911 GT2 RS, his collection spans a number of decades and styles. There is a noticeable bias towards the classics here, too. Prior to the 996-era of 911 launching in 1997, Porsche’s engines were mostly air-cooled, and this is where most of Matt’s collection is focused. While there are no doubt some hidden gems that are kept away from public eyes, we do know he owns the following: 2012 911 Carrera GTS – 1988 964 (911) Carrera – 1987 930 (911) Turbo – 2014 911 Turbo S – 2016 911 R – 2017 911 GT2 RS – Despite his love for Porsche, there’s one he’d never buy: A 914. In an interview with Men’s Journal, he said “I’m not a fan of the 914, though I know there are some die-hard fans out there. I’ll get letters about that.” Matt LeBlanc’s exotic cars While his biggest love is Porsche, Matt also enjoys dabbling in other brands of four-wheeled transport too. Satisfying his ‘hot hatch’ requirements is his Ford Focus RS, an all-wheel-drive hatchback complete with ‘drift’ button. He also has a classic American muscle car in the form of a De Tomaso Pantera, complete with its room-shaking V8 engine. Good friend and previous co-host Chris Harris also revealed that Matt has bought himself a Ferrari Testarossa, which will sit nicely alongside his Pantera, and his other Ferraris — a 360 Modena and 458 Italia. Perhaps the most unusual car in his collection is a Fiat X1/9. This diminutive, rear-engined Italian sports car must’ve struck a chord with LeBlanc, as it’s totally different from anything else in his collection. With its mix of iconic classics and modern supercars, Matt’s collection is enviable – just don’t tell him you’re a fan of the Porsche 914, whatever you do.

Farah picked up the Koenig-Specials C62, which is made from what was originally a LeMans race car, to drive it into storage. “In the early 1990s, ‘91, there was a LeMans class called group C racing, this was a Porche 962 raced in that class,” Farah explained. “When that class was disassembled … that left a bunch of Porche 962 customer chassis around and nothing to do with them.” “So this psycho Willy Konig bought a couple of them and this is their first one, this is the Koenig C62,” he continued happily. “It is a LeMans car that somehow, you can drive on the street.” The differences between something like the C62 and a normal car became clear even before Farah took the monster out of the parking lot. “You have to rev the snot out of it to get it to move, because it’s not meant to be in a stop and go situation,” Farah said as he got used to the car. “You gotta understand, this thing is 800 horsepower and it’s 3100 and change pounds, so that’s how you get it to go.” At first, Farah ran into some trouble with the car and even stalled out briefly, but it probably didn’t help that the hand brake was on for the first few minutes of the drive either. “Driving something like this on a public road is honestly an absurd proposition,” he thought aloud as he bravely headed towards LA’s 405 freeway. “Once you’re moving it’s ok, it’s just the stopping and starting is such a nightmare.” After he got into the (relatively) open space of the freeway, the C62 reminded Farah that it was still a race car in spirit with more than a few sketchy moments. Ultimately, Farah and the car made it safely to their destination practically unscathed, except for a little scrape when the car was entering the garage. “I’m just glad it’s here in one piece and I avoided an aneurism,” a relieved Farah said as he finally parked the car. The C62 is definitely an awesome car, but it certainly doesn’t seem practical at all once you get it off of the race track (which it was designed for) and onto the street.

  • Marshmello’s 6×6 $500k custom truck destroyed during dramatic police chase – Dexerto

Marshmello’s 6×6 $500k custom truck destroyed during dramatic police chase YouTube: ABC7Being a big-time DJ and producer has its perks, such as being able to own incredible cars. Unfortunately, these cars also attract lots of attention, and not always the good kind. DJ Marshmello discovered this the hard way earlier in 2020. When the story broke of a massive custom, $500,000 Ford F-550 6×6 being involved in a police chase around Los Angeles, many were quick to quip “that’s the most LA thing I’ve ever seen.” However, this was no ‘ordinary’ 6×6. The truck in fact belonged to famous DJ Marshmello, real name Christopher Comstock. The vehicle was dropped off at a dealership for servicing by his manager and was then stolen by the joyrider. Marshmello’s 6×6 stolen The less-than-inconspicuous truck managed to evade detection for a number of hours, as the opportunist thief explored LA from behind the wheel. When the police caught up, however, a dramatic and televised chase ensued. Surprisingly, the driver had managed to get from the dealership in Van Nuys to the Malibu area before they were picked up by police. The ensuing chase lasted for over 30-minutes, taking in the 101 freeway, San Fernando Valley, and numerous residential areas before coming to a screeching halt. In the end, the driver surrendered after the 30-minute chase, when he misjudged the exit of a Taco Bell parking lot, and crashed into a lamp post. Given that he managed to avoid both a failed PIT maneuver and keep the cops at bay for over half an hour, it is surprising that the chase would end in such an anti-climatic way. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the collision. The truck may not have fared so well, however. Given that it was custom-built by renowned tuners Diesel Brothers, it is unlikely that it will be an easy insurance repair. The joyrider turned himself in peacefully at the end of the chase, and now faces charges of Grand Theft Auto and a felony for evading police. While there has not been any official comment from Marshmello himself, with such a successful career, it wouldn’t take much for the DJ to buy himself another truck.

  • Marques Brownlee uncovers huge Ford F150 Lightning benefit no one is talking about – Dexerto

Marques Brownlee uncovers huge Ford F150 Lightning benefit no one is talking about Marques Brownlee/YouTubeWe see more and more electric cars come out each year, but YouTuber Marques Brownlee discovered the new 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning has more going for it than being a battery-powered pickup. Vehicles that ditch the old internal combustion engine to run on a charge aren’t all that uncommon to see driving around, but all-electric pickup trucks are still basically unheard of. Obviously, the most-hyped electric truck is Tesla’s Cybertruck, but Ford is entering the market as well with an emissions-free version of the F-150 called the “Lightning” that Brownlee found gets more mileage per charge than the stats might let on. Being the big-time YouTuber that he is, Brownlee got a chance to take the truck for a spin long before it’s available for sale in 2022 and discovered it seems to be on par or better than current electric vehicles (Teslas included) for how far it can drive on a single charge. It’s got all the bells and whistles you’d expect from a brand new car: touchscreens, an overabundance of various charging ports, and a massive front trunk (since it has no engine) that can even be used as a cooler. Features are fine, but if you’re buying an electric truck or any other vehicle for that matter you want to make sure you’ll be able to spend more time driving than you will be charging. On paper, The F-150 Lightning gets 300 miles on a full charge according to Ford, but MKBHD found it’s actually closer to 460 miles, which beats a lot of 2021 electric car models. “That 300-mile range that I talked about, I was like eh, that’s pretty good for their first-generation, but it’s not amazing or anything like that for coming out next year. But that 300-mile range is the EPA rating with 1000 pounds of cargo in the truck,” Brownlee revealed. “So this truck, at our studio with no weight in the truck, was quoting me 360 miles.” Subject starts at 8:12 for mobile viewers. The kicker is, that was only at about 80% charge, so following some quick maths the YouTuber came up with an estimated total mileage without any weight in the back of roughly 459 miles per charge. So, why isn’t Ford advertising these numbers? “The reason for doing this EPA rating with 100 pounds in the trunk is they just want to make it easy as possible for people to switch from the gas version of the truck to the electric version,” MKBHD explained. “They just want to give you a safe 300 miles, so they might end up under-promising and overdelivering, but at least you’ll always have 300 miles.” While he admitted he’s not a “truck person” by any means, Marques seemed impressed with what will be Ford’s competition to the Cybertruck. Even though neither’s on the market yet, it will be interesting to see which one ends up being the bigger success.

  • Marques Brownlee reveals risks of using Tesla’s automatic Car Summon – Dexerto

Marques Brownlee reveals risks of using Tesla’s automatic Car Summon MKBHD YouTubeThe popular Car Summon feature on upgraded Tesla models is a work-in-progress as YouTuber Marques Brownlee, better known as MKBHD, showed while explaining how the car company works to upgrade and patch out certain risks. One of the most surprising developments in the electric car industry of the last decade has been the semi-complete autopilot and summon feature packed into the Tesla sports cars. As with most tech innovations, the release was preceded by realizations of how it could be improved. While explaining how Tesla upgrades their cars over time, MKBHD saw how the Smart Summon feature doesn’t quite “drive like a regular human driver” – noting some awkward pitfalls while using. “It does see pedestrians and moving objects,” he said. “Sometimes it slows down for them. Which you would hope every time it would slow down for pedestrians. But sometimes, it just didn’t.” The YouTuber mentioned how the car “usually slows down” for signs and intersections, while “completely ignoring all the lines on the road.” MKBHD said this could make it harder for other drivers to predict the car’s movement on the road. But it’s not all gloom for potential Tesla buyers. The cars are full-fledged vehicles, but they’re mostly a piece of developing tech, or at least that’s how the company is approaching its present day shortcomings. In the car manufacturer’s website, they’re teasing an Autosteer function labeled as “upcoming” for its Full Self-Driving package. While the $7,000 upgrade has a lot of improvements over the standard Autopilot feature, the company is constantly adding and improving the tech as they develop more solutions. Topic starts at 0:30 MKBHD explained how these changes come from people using the car and the features that might carry risk with them right now, but if only to send data back to Tesla for potential fixes. “They have thousands, millions, of drivers who are willing to test this over and over again,” MKBHD said. “Tesla will use all of that data, all of the successful and failed attempts, turn around and work on new software to make it better.” Since the flashiest parts of these machines are the tech that go under the hood, the downfalls and risks that come with Teslas can be improved on without having to buy a vastly upgraded model.

  • Marques Brownlee reveals he almost sold his Tesla for a Porsche Taycan – Dexerto

Marques Brownlee reveals he almost sold his Tesla for a Porsche Taycan YouTube: Marques BrownleeAs a self-confessed Tesla fan, YouTuber Marques Brownlee has often been skeptical of other electric vehicles. Despite that, it seems that the Porsche Taycan has wormed its way into Brownlee’s heart. Tesla are often heavily criticized for poor quality control, panel gap alignment issues and their relaxed approach to build quality. That having been said, they are still the best-selling electric vehicles (EVs) in the world, with Brownlee being a vocal fan of their cars. Porsche are relatively new to the EV game, having released their zero-emission sports sedan the Taycan during 2019. In spite of their lack of experience in the EV industry, the Taycan has taken the world by storm, and even nearly convinced Marques Brownlee to sell his Tesla Model S. One of the Taycan’s major advantages over Marques’ Tesla is the interior quality which he describes as “next level.” The finish is far better than the Tesla, while the Porsche Design elements such as the central clock, vegan materials and overall layout trump Teslas. In EVs, screens dominate the interior and control everything from safety systems to the A/C. Marques is quick to point out the “solid” haptic feedback from the Taycan’s large central screen, along with the clever use of touchscreen controls on the main instrument display. The range of the Taycan is a downside though, as is its energy consumption. Compared to the Tesla, the Porsche is “significantly less efficient” and has a higher wh/mi efficiency rating than his Tesla. This means that the Taycan uses more energy to travel less distance. Charging is another factor that prevented Marques from making the switch to Porsche. Tesla’s ‘supercharger’ network still far outweighs the Electrify America network that the Taycan uses, meaning it is harder to find a super-fast charger while out on the road. Despite the charging difficulties, Brownlee was full of praise for the driving characteristics of the Taycan, calling it “the best driving electric car out right now, period.” The Taycan is currently unique among other EVs in that it has a two-speed gearbox to enable continued acceleration. This combined with Porsche’s motorsport DNA make for a potent combination of sheer power and handling prowess, much to Marques’ enjoyment. Sadly the benefits of the Tesla charging network, range and price meant that he ended up holding on to the Model S. Perhaps if he gets his hands on the cheaper 4S version of the Taycan, things may be different?

  • Marques Brownlee highlights key flaws with new Tesla Model Y – Dexerto

Marques Brownlee highlights key flaws with new Tesla Model Y YouTube: Marques BrownleeThe Tesla Model Y, the latest in the manufacturer’s lineup, has been attracting a variety of opinions. Marques ‘MKBHD’ Brownlee has one of the most influential review voices in tech, and has now given his verdict. Elon Musk’s renowned Tesla brand has been the leader in innovation for electric cars, but is not without criticism. Although known primarily as a reviewer of smaller tech like smartphones, tablets and laptops, Brownlee has made a habit of discussing electric vehicles in particular on his channel. Most notably, he sat down with one of Musk’s billionaire counterparts, Bill Gates, to discuss the positives and negatives of electric cars. Although he makes clear that he’s “not Top Gear”, and can’t provide as much insight into the actual driving side of things beyond a lay perspective, his tech knowledge shines through in his summation of the Model Y. Tesla’s “most important” car? He ambiguously calls it Tesla’s “most important” car, explaining that it boasts many things he likes, including agile and responsive handling, but he also has some pretty significant complaints. Speaking specifically on the minimal interior and lack of buttons, he said: “Now that I’ve had this car for almost two weeks, I’ve gotten used to a lot of it, but some of it I kind of wish was still a regular button.” Simple things like window wipers, opening the glovebox, and air-con, are all controlled through menus on the screen. “Sometimes I want to just put the air on my face with just one little [button] … I wish I had a little bit more manual control.” Another small niggle is the key, which is simply a card that is placed on a rather slippery center console. As you can imagine, it slides around as soon as the car accelerates or brakes sharply. Poor build quality But, some of Brownlee’s main criticisms are around the build quality – a critique that may surprise Tesla enthusiasts. He highlights that for $70,000 “you want things to be built well, and even in this Model Y that Tesla gave me, I found it had some pretty big panel gaps, potentially letting water into the car.” He also pointed out a flimsy sun visor, a misaligned hazard light, as well as the rear spoiler not even being properly attached. Despite the flaws in build quality and some of the design choices, Brownlee’s overall verdict was still generally positive, but far from perfect.

  • Manny Khoshbin reveals insane cost of owning a fleet of supercars – Dexerto

Manny Khoshbin reveals insane cost of owning a fleet of supercars YouTube: Manny KhoshbinPopular YouTuber Manny Khoshbin has revealed the eye-watering cost that it takes to keep his fleet of super and hypercars maintained even though they might not see the road on a regular basis. Car YouTubers can lay claim to some of the most extravagant and unique collections of vehicles in the world but Manny Khoshbin, a real estate investor by-day, has amassed one of the best around. The California native owns five different Mercedes SLR’, three unique Bugatti’s, a Porsche 935, a Mclaren 650s, Ferrari GT, Mclaren Senna, Mclaren P1, Pagani Huayra, as well as a Tesla Model X, and keeps them all in a custom garage that is located in Irvine. As you might expect, it isn’t cheap to own the incredible fleet and it’s even more expensive to keep them maintained – even if they aren’t on the road as regular as you might expect. In fact, Manny revealed how much it costs to keep them all in tip-top shape by explaining how much he pays in oil and tyre changes, services, cleaning, insurance, and the cost of his garage. Just for servicing and oil changes, the cars set the YouTuber back around $115,000. Though he gets a “super deal” on a weekly detailing and cleaning, that also costs him an additional $36,000 a year. One of the biggest costs, perhaps unsurprisingly, comes in the form of insurance. “I have a blanket policy because I don’t drive all my cars all the time, and I think I pay close to $100,000 a year which is very cheap,” Manny added. Keeping the fleet of cars under one roof also sets him back around $180,000 a year but just to get the garage up to code with the local government standards cost around $700,000 for all the technology. Now, with Manny shelling out all that cash just to keep the cars maintained and inside a custom garage, who knows how much it would cost if they were out burning rubber and guzzling fuel on a daily basis – not to mention the possibility of new parts. The already sky-high costs would go soaring even further.

  • Manny Khoshbin reveals crazy cost to service one of a kind Pagani Huayra – Dexerto

Manny Khoshbin reveals crazy cost to service one of a kind Pagani Huayra YouTube: Manny KhoshbinPopular YouTuber Manny Khoshbin has revealed the crazy cost of having his Pagani Huayra taken for its annual service even though he’s got less than 200 miles on the clock. Khoshbin, a real estate investor by-day, has managed to take his success in his day job and used it to splash out on some pretty incredible cars that he displays on his YouTube channel. He recently revealed the cost behind owning his fleet of super and hypercars that includes five different Mercedes SLR’, three unique Bugatti’s, a Porsche 935, a Mclaren 650s, Ferrari GT, Mclaren Senna, Mclaren P1, Pagani Huayra, and even a Tesla Model X. A few of these, including the Pagani, are a one of a kind thanks to his customizations, but they do come at an insane cost to own. The YouTuber recently revealed that getting them all serviced costs around $115,000 per year – and that is without taking into account that he might need new parts or even tires. Out of that total, Manny’s one of a kind Pagani, which he doesn’t drive all that much, requires an annual servicing that costs around $8,000. That’s not just a cool eight grand for an oil change though, as the servicer noted that are a few different little things in there too. While that might be the standard rate, the YouTuber pointed out that he also has issues with the on-board screen that required fixing too – so that could very well run up his total cost. Though, he didn’t reveal if it did in the end. t 6:15 Servicing costs, of course, vary dependant on the car and for someone with a collection like Manny, $8,000 is right in the middle of the pack. During his recent cost breakdown, he explained that one of his biggest costs came in the form of his Buggati’s – which can cost upwards of $20,000 – but his Ferrari GT isn’t all too bad at around $1,500.

  • Manny Khoshbin reveals 3 supercars he’s buying from Geneva Motor Show – Dexerto

Manny Khoshbin reveals 3 supercars he’s buying from Geneva Motor Show YouTube: Manny KhoshbinCar YouTuber Manny Khoshbin has revealed which three supercars he’s going to order from the Geneva Motor Show 2020 – and every car lover is already filled with envy at his growing collection. The Geneva Motor Show is the biggest car show of the year, bringing petrolheads from across the world to the Swiss city to take a look at some of the most exciting new vehicles coming from their favorite automakers. Of course, the event was canceled due to the ongoing outbreak, but that doesn’t mean the companies kept their big reveals under wraps, and the likes of Porsche, Koenigsegg and Aston Martin will be finding new ways to market their supercars to fans. So which ones will Manny be going for? After reeling off some of the most notable vehicles due to be revealed, Manny shared with viewers the first one he plans to buy: the Koenigsegg Gemera, which he defines as “extremely attractive” because he doesn’t have a four-seater to take his family for a joy-ride. The next one he reveals he is buying is the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut – a car being tipped as the “fastest on the planet.” Manny says that although he ordered the track version, he’s now seen the Absolut and makes the pun that it is “an absolute must” to add to his collection. The last on Manny’s list is the McLaren 765LT, a car that he says seems interesting but is a little on the fence about it, suggesting he’s going to need a test drive to make his decision on the vehicle. (Timestamp 4:56 for mobile viewers) Khoshbin goes on to reveal some of the cars he’s already got on the way, including a Ford GT and McLaren Speedtail. In short, he’s probably got one of the fastest car collections in the world. In total, the three cars he’s planning on ordering from the Geneva Motor Show are expected to add up to almost $7 million, with the Gemera rumored to be the cheapest of the three at around $1.7m. Of course, none of this is set in stone and, knowing Manny, he may end up with way more than what he’s suggested in this video – and we don’t exactly blame him.

In his latest video, Manny paid special attention to Jeffree Star’s impressive track car and called it “one of the most beautiful looking Sennas I’ve seen.” He congratulated Jeffree on getting a “real one-off Senna,” admired the Tiffany blue color, and added: “I love the details all the way down to the wheel locks, the trims on the inside…it just really pops.” The business mogul continued on: “It drives amazingly on the track, but on the street, especially for a long drive, it is a little bumpy.” However, Manny said that he prefers his McLaren P1, revealing that Jeffree had driven it himself in the past. Jeffree Star recently bought a custom Toyota Supra from popular car enthusiast TheStradman, who documented the sale while also taking a look at the beauty influencer’s own incredible car collection. TheStradman also admired Jeffree’s Senna and considered purchasing one himself. The real estates turned YouTuber noted that the Speedtail will be decked out in one of Hermes’ most popular colors, a deep shade of blue, and have a classic brown leather interior. • Manny Khoshbin explains why he sold his Porsche Carrera GT – Dexerto

Manny Khoshbin explains why he sold his Porsche Carrera GT YouTube: Manny KhoshbinCar YouTuber Manny Khoshbin has owned some of the most exotic supercars in the world, including the Porsche Carrera GT which he recently sold. Now, he’s explained why it was the right time to get rid. In February 2020, Khoshbin revealed the insane cost of owning his fleet of supercars, costing him hundreds of thousands of dollars each year – not including the actual cost of the cars, which can exceed $1 million. He also revealed that there are three supercars he planned on getting from the Geneva Motor Show which total around $7m, but has actually sold his Porsche Carrera GT, which many would consider a dream car. Khoshbin explained in his March 26 upload that due to the current crisis affecting the entire world, there is somewhat of a recession and, obviously, people are less interested in buying supercars. For that reason, Manny said, he decided to sell some of his less-exclusive cars so that he wouldn’t lose too much value on them during the panic – and that includes his Porsche. He said that it was simply the right place and the right time to finally let go of the car he had owned for seven years, explaining that if he had sold it two weeks later, he would have got around $100-150,000 less than what he sold it for at the start of March. As Manny said, he doubled his money on that and “you never go broke making a profit,” which more than justifies why it was the perfect time to get rid of the Carrera GT – which is especially helpful considering how many cars he already has on order. Khoshbin then explained that there’s going to be a big crash in the supercar market, and he might be tempted to pick up one or two for the right price since they’ll be cheaper than usual. By Manny’s explanation, this definitely seems to have been the right decision, especially if it meant an extra $100k or more in the bank. He even hinted that he might buy it back if the price drops enough – which would be the ultimate power move.

  • Lucid’s Air electric car destroys Porsche Taycan in drag race – Dexerto

Lucid’s Air electric car destroys Porsche Taycan in drag race YouTube: The KilowattsEVs are all the rage at the moment. From Tesla to Porsche, almost all major manufacturers are implementing EV or hybrid technology into their vehicles. Newcomer Lucid is looking to take on the big guns, and in spectacular fashion. There’s nothing like an old-fashioned ‘call-out’ video to set hearts racing, and that’s exactly what newcomer electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Lucid has done on their Twitter account. Having smashed Tesla’s lap record for four-door sedans around the Laguna Seca track earlier in September 2020, they are now coming for both Tesla and Porsche in their latest challenge. The Lucid Air manages a sub-10 second 1/4 mile Having proven itself in the quarter-mile, this is familiar ground for the Lucid Air. Posting a 9.9-second quarter-mile time, the Air is the only car out of itself, the Model S, and the Taycan that can manage a sub-ten second time. Evidently seeing the 9.9 second time as ‘too easy’ to beat, Lucid went back and smashed their own record with the tri-motor variant of the Air sedan. Managing an incredible 9.3-second pass, it puts the Air leagues ahead of any competition. The tweet itself takes aim at the Porsche Taycan. Currently seen as the best all-rounder from the current ‘super’ EV crop, Lucid is clearly looking to claim the crown for themselves. What’s quicker than quick? Check back on September 24 to see #LucidAir answer the question. pic.twitter.com/2WH6qoWs2J — Lucid Motors (@LucidMotors) September 20, 2020 “What’s faster than fast?” With the teaser video showing the tri-motor Air lined up next to a Taycan, the video goes on to show both cars screaming down the track. Being a teaser video, there are a number of jump-cuts, but there are a few major features to pick up on. The video is titled “what’s faster than fast?” Perhaps this will be the official confirmation of the tri-motors time, which is backed up by a clock graphic counting down from 9.9 seconds. Interestingly there is a scene that appears to show the Taycan in the left lane pulling ahead of the Air. We do know that the standard Air is faster in a straight line, so this could just be to build suspense. Whatever the case, all will be revealed by Lucid on September 24.

When the vehicle first pulls into frame in Linus’ video, for a half-second it almost looks like the real thing, until it parks next to actual full-size cars and the YouTuber pops out of the top. For all intents and purposes, the mini version has all of the same features as the full-size, including LEDs on the front and rear and even a fully extendable tailgate. Being a miniature replica, there wasn’t enough room to fit all of the technical bells and whistles in, but the model does boast a faux-marble dashboard much like the real truck. In some aspects, though, the Hacksmith model Cybertruck outperformed its full-sized counterpart. Linus was unable to leave more than a scuff when he threw a metal ball bearing at the replica’s window, whereas the real version’s glass shattered into a spiderweb. Furthermore, its door panel didn’t dent when the YouTuber smacked it with a sledgehammer either, unlike the actual model, which was definitely worse for wear after similar tests. The Hacksmiths aren’t the only ones to make a replica of the Cybertruck since it captured people’s imaginations in 2019, but theirs is one of the most accurate recreations so far. We probably won’t see an actual, market-ready one until we get closer to its 2021 release date, so for now, replicas like this will just have to be the next best thing.

  • Life of Palos reveals his new Ferrari FF with “dream” specs – Dexerto

Life of Palos reveals his new Ferrari FF with “dream” specs YouTube: Life of PalosBest-known for his news round-ups, YouTuber Life of Palos is also an avid petrolhead and owns a number of exotic cars. Now, he’s added a Ferrari F12 to his fleet in his “dream” specification. Having teased that he was getting “a new V12” in a number of his recent videos, YouTuber Life of Palos – real name Aaron – has now revealed that his latest car is a 2013 Ferrari FF V12. Replacing the 707hp Dodge Challenger Hellcat in his garage, the new FF will take its place next to his McLaren 570s, making his garage more supercar-oriented than ever before. Buying this Ferrari is a “dream come true” for Palos, as it “represents years of hard work to get to be able to buy this.” Life of Palos Ferrari FF spec Choosing a very ‘classy’ spec, the FF is finished in white ‘Bianca Avus’ with a black leather interior. Palos also gives us a hint at future plans, stating “we’re going to do some kind of wrap design, and the black interior is going to look the best for what we’re going to be doing.” Revealing why he chose the V12 Ferrari FF over anything else, Aaron explains that he’s already ‘ticked’ the two-seater box with his 570s. “I wanted something I could take some friends up into the mountain with and have some fun” with its 4 seats and ‘GT’ styling, the FF is perfect for such trips. Practicality is also important, with one of his “favorite” things about the FF is it being “a Ferrari with actual trunk space.” Life of Palos Ferrari FF build Starting the FF for the first time, he confesses “I never in a million years, as I was a kid, thought that I’d be able to have a Ferrari of my own.” Thankfully, his wife is also a big fan of the FF. Sitting in the car, he says “you look like a natural” while her response was simply “yeah, I’ll take it!” With such a big purchase as this, having the support of his family is a big deal for Palos. With plans to do a full build on the car including “straight piping it, wrapping it, new wheels, maybe a tune…” it seems that Palos has plenty in store for his YouTube community.

  • Lewis Hamilton reveals why he’s swapped supercars for electric cars – Dexerto

Lewis Hamilton reveals why he’s swapped supercars for electric cars YouTube: Mercedes-Benz ÖsterreichAs one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers in recent years, Lewis Hamilton has quite the car collection. However, it now seems that these cars will be forever confined to the garage according to a recent announcement made by Lewis. This isn’t the first time that the multiple championship-winning F1 driver has announced that he is scaling back on his luxuries. Earlier in 2020, he sold off his personal jet plane in an attempt to offset his carbon footprint. Citing “environmental reasons” for selling his jet, Hamilton now insists on all airport transfers to-and-from events being in electric-only vehicles to minimize his environmental impact. For a man that races cars for a living, he is certainly far more openly eco-conscious than many of his competitors. Lewis Hamilton’s incredible car collection Perhaps most surprising is that this desire to minimize his carbon footprint extends to his incredible collection of cars. Being a professional racing driver by trade, Hamilton has an incredible collection of cars sat in his garage. Ranging from modern-day heroes such as the McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari to old-school-cool with his 1966 Shelby Cobra 427, he has an eclectic and varied personal garage. Further highlights include a Ferrari 599 Aperta, Pagani Zonda 760, and a Mercedes AMG GTR. Now it seems that these cars will be relegated to museum pieces or perhaps even sold, following an announcement from Hamilton at the Mugello Grand Prix. “I don’t drive any of the cars that I own anymore” On Thursday, September 10 in the lead up to the Tuscan GP at Mugello, Hamilton told reporters “I don’t drive any of the cars that I own anymore. I only drive my [Mercedes] EQC.” Lewis also shares an insight into his eco-conscious journey on his Instagram page: “The first step in this journey was to understand my personal impact on the planet so I could make changes to improve it. Since then, I have offset my carbon footprint from my Formula 1 career dating back to 2007.” View this post on Instagram Recently I’ve been making many changes in my life to reduce my impact on the environment. The first step in this journey was to understand my personal impact on the planet so I could make changes to improve it. Since then, I have offset my carbon footprint from my Formula 1 career dating back to 2007, I have reduced travel where possible, I have gone plant-based and outside of the track, I try to use electric cars wherever possible. I also want to use my position as a racing driver to enforce positive and permanent change, which is why I’m working closely with Mercedes to slowly move their fleet of cars towards electric. This is my new dream car, the new EQS fully electric Mercedes. I can’t wait until it’s released! It’s difficult to always be perfect when we go about our daily lives, but I’m continuing to learn how to be better and I’m committed to staying educated and informed so I can play my part. Small steps lead to big change, so it’s important we all take a moment to understand our footprint and the small changes we can make in our everyday lives to put our planet first. The last step for me will be when I step away from this sport and can focus fully on helping heal the world to provide a better future for our kids and our kids, kids. #VisionEQS @mercedesbenz Launch of Extreme E X44 team The move to an almost fully-electric lifestyle also coincides with the news that Hamilton will be launching his own team in the new Extreme E off-road racing series. Named X44 after his F1 car number, the Extreme E championship is on track to launch during 2021. As a voice of change for many both within F1 and wider pop culture, it will be interesting to see if other high-profile celebrities follow in Hamilton’s footsteps to reduce their environmental impact. For now, there is no news of his garage being sold off, so hopefully, the collection will live to be seen another day.

  • Lamborghini owner turns $230k Huracan into a mooing cow with bizarre mod – Dexerto

Lamborghini owner turns $230k Huracan into a mooing cow with bizarre mod Twitter: @HJWakerleyTaste is a subjective thing, but surely turning your Lamborghini into a cow crosses the line? Evidently a big lover of bovine creatures, this Lamborghini owner has completely transformed their supercar, giving it a unique identity in the process. Meet the ‘Cowborghini’ – A Lamborghini Huracan Spyder with a not-so-subtle twist. Converted by their owner into this bovine-themed ‘artwork’ on wheels, this is one Huracan that certainly stands out in a crowd. Not content with having just wrapped the car in black spots designed to resemble a Friesian cow, the owner has also gone as far as creating vinyl ‘eyes’ for the Huracan to sit over the headlights, along with ‘eyelashes’ that resemble those of the Lamborghini Miura in a subtle ‘nod’ to the car’s ancestry. In my excitement over the LaFerrari/tdf/Testarossa combo I forgot all about the #Cowborghini ? That’s a lot of effort gone into making a Huracan look and sound like a cow… Yes, it moos ? #Cowborghini Think this is probably minus points but an A for effort. pic.twitter.com/1on60AFYtB — Helen Wakerley (@hjwakerley) August 11, 2020 There’s a Huracan Spyder in there somewhere… There’s no denying that the owners’ eye for detail is impressive, regardless of whether the overall execution of the concept is to your taste or not. This unfortunate Huracan Spyder has been completely stripped of its identity, with replacement custom ‘Cowborghini’ badges and emblems adorning the bodywork in place of its original Lamborghini crests. The Cowborghini is an audible art piece too – it has been fitted with a cow ‘moo’ emitter. Unfortunately, it is unclear whether this is an adaptive exhaust modification, or simply a push-button horn in place of the stock car horn; Whichever it is, it certainly draws plenty of attention from onlookers. Evidently the driver of the car is proud of his creation, as he is seen happily inviting further attention from passers-by as he drives off from his parking space, roof down and Cowborghini in full ‘moo’ mode. Public reaction As expected, this unusual creation – posted by Helen Wakerley on Twitter – has attracted both admiring comments and criticism, ranging from cow-based pun suggestions such as it being a “moo-acan” (rather than Huracan) to simple criticism, calling the mobile artwork “vandalism at its best.” Having received some attention on social media and then posted to Reddit (and since removed) the Cowborghini has certainly caused a stampede of comments; Let’s just hope the owner doesn’t milk the attention too much.

  • Kylie Jenner’s stunning car collection will make your jaw drop – Dexerto

Kylie Jenner’s stunning car collection will make your jaw drop Instagram: @kyliejennerKylie Jenner is one of the most successful young entrepreneurs the world has ever seen, and her car collection proves it. With everything from luxury SUVs to top-range hypercars, she has all bases covered in her car collection. Kylie Jenner is a social media sensation, serial entrepreneur, and bonafide car collector. Considering her age, she has an incredibly diverse taste in cars with both ‘typical rich kid’ cars and some very left-field choices. As with everything in her life, she regularly posts her car collection to her Instagram, showing off her rides to over 198 million followers. Below, we’ve highlighted some of the best cars from Kylie Jenner’s car collection for your enjoyment. Kylie Jenner’s luxury car collection As any self-respecting entrepreneur will tell you, appearance is everything. Well, Kylie certainly has that one covered, with a whole host of luxury cars at her disposal. Jenner has no less than three different variations of Mercedes G-Wagons. These luxury 4x4s are a great way to make a statement wherever she goes. Her collection ranges from a bright orange AMG G63, to a standard Tan-colored G-Wagon that regularly makes appearances on her Instagram feed. Rolls-Royces also play a big part in her car collection. She has been seen with no less than four different Rolls-Royce Ghosts, though it is unclear how many of these are simply the same car that has been repainted. Perhaps most notable from her luxury car collection is her classic Rolls-Royce. Gifted to her by ex-boyfriend Travis Scott, the classic Rolls is one of the most unique and stunning cars in her collection. For day-to-day duties, Kylie also has two Range Rovers. Perfect for driving around without drawing attention to herself, they are also the cheapest cars in her garage. Kylie Jenner’s supercars Not only does Kylie have a number of opulent luxury cars, but she also appears to be a fan of the faster things in life. Her supercar collection is enough to make any petrolhead jealous, with a few notable highlights. Kylie has a number of different Ferraris, including a Ferrari 488 Spyder which she bought to match with her sister Kendall back in 2018. Not only does she have the 488, but also a 458 Italia spyder in a custom blue finish. Lamborghinis are also a common theme in her collection. Jenner owns both a bright orange Lamborghini Aventador (which matches her AMG G63 truck) and a red Lamborghini Urus. The Urus is a recent addition to her collection, and is ideal for traveling in style with daughter Stormi. The stars of her collection are undoubtedly Kylie’s hypercars. Back when she was dating Travis Scott, the rapper gifted Kylie a black Ferrari LaFerrari after giving birth to their daughter. Worth a cool $1.4m, the LaFerrari isn’t even the most expensive car in her collection. The jewel in Jenner’s collection is her Bugatti Chiron. Bought as a dramatic ‘breakup present’ to herself after splitting with Scott in 2019, the $3m 1000hp+ hypercar is a stunning (and expensive) way to get over a heartbreak. All told, Kylie’s collection is worth in excess of $5.5 million.

  • Konenigsegg shut down claims that SSC broke car speed record – Dexerto

Konenigsegg shut down claims that SSC broke car speed record KoenigseggHypercar giants Koenigsegg are rightly proud of their cars’ performance. However, everything is not what it seems in their annual Facebook post celebrating their record run in Las Vegas. Three years ago, Koenigsegg claimed the world speed record for a production car with the Agera RS. With its 5-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine producing 1,341 bhp, the Agera RS was designed with one thing in mind: top speed. Hitting a recorded average top speed of 278mph, the Agera RS took the record of the world’s fastest production car. Bugatti took a swipe at the record back in 2019 with a modified Bugatti Chiron, but despite being the first to break the 300mph barrier, no official record was set. Koenigsegg vs SSC North America Recently, a new contender for the production car speed record has emerged: The SSC Tuatara. Based in North America, SSC were gunning for the speed record with their so-called ‘megacar’. However, the attempt didn’t quite go to plan. Since the record run took place, the internet has been awash with various media personalities, websites and analysts claiming there were a number of issues with SSC’s video. So much so, that SSC themselves have been forced to re-do the record run. Understandably, someone gunning for their record would’ve wound up the team at Koenigsegg, and instead of attacking the issue head-on, they’ve chosen to completely ignore it. On their anniversary post on Facebook, the company flat out denied to make any sort of acknowledgment of SSC’s run. While the Bugatti run was never an official record attempt, the SSC one was, and was initially seen as breaking the record held by the Agera RS. As such, Koenigsegg still sees themselves as rightful holders of the world speed record for a production car. In the post, they say “Here’s [to] celebrating the title for a third year running” clearly making no reference to SSC’s attempt. Technically, they’re right to do so; Although the Tuatara attempt was a bonafide record run, there were so many issues that the record attempt was never officially submitted to the Guinness Book of Records. Therefore, Koenigsegg is still the holder — though there is evidently no love lost between the companies. Interestingly, the post also alludes to a possible future speed run, stating there is an “even more exciting road ahead.” While there is no confirmation of what this means, with SSC ramping up for another run, we may yet see Koenigsegg defend their title.

  • Khalid’s new custom Lamborghini Urus is insane – Dexerto

Khalid’s new custom Lamborghini Urus is insane Instagram: @thegr8khalid / YouTube: RDB LASinger/songwriter Khalid has taken the charts by storm, and with several number-one singles to his name, has splashed out on well-deserved luxuries. One such luxury is his new custom Lamborghini Urus, complete with a $20,000 surprise. Rappers and musicians have long been known for showing off their wealth and success through their cars. Khalid is no exception and has been seen in a BMW M6 among other cars. While the M6 is impressive, it appears Khalid has taken his collection up a notch with his latest purchase. Moving away from sleek German sedans to super-SUVs, Khalid’s latest ride is a Lamborghini Urus. Packing a twin-turbo V8 with over 600hp, straight off the dealership forecourt the Urus is an impressive ride. Khalid’s custom Lamborghini Urus This is no ordinary Lamborghini, however. While the Urus and other Lamborghinis are popular with celebrities such as Justin Bieber and Kanye West, Khalid wanted his to be unlike any other. Khalid’s Urus features a custom wide-body kit from 1016 Industries, accentuating the sharp lines of the Lamborghini. With wider arches, extended front and rear ‘lips,’ and new spoilers, the appearance of the Urus has been completely transformed. Not content with just making his new ride even more menacing than usual, Khalid has also opted for a desert sand-colored wrap to tie it all together. This is similar to the color seen on Kanye West’s Urus, but without the controversial monoblock wheels. Some of the factory carbon-fiber details have also been left uncovered, to add a touch of contrast to the ‘sand’ finish. Resembling a high-class military vehicle, Khalid’s Urus would look just as good in the desert as it would driving around Beverly Hills. No doubt we’ll be seeing this custom Urus in one of Khalid’s music videos soon, so keep an eye out for it making a cameo appearance.

Kevin Hart’s awesome car collection has a retro twist Instagram: @kevinhart4realKnown as the ‘hardest working man in Hollywood’ comedian, actor, and entrepreneur Kevin Hart also has one of the coolest car collections in Hollywood. From classic American muscle to brand-new supercars, Hart’s collection is mightily impressive. Here are our highlights. From his stand-up comedy specials on Netflix to starring in blockbuster films such as Jumanji! Kevin Hart certainly has his hand in many projects. Not content with his on-screen career, Hart is also an investor, entrepreneur, and media company owner, ensuring he is constantly busy regardless of what day of the week it is. Thankfully, working so hard pays off, and Kevin has access to one of the best car collections in Hollywood. From classic muscle cars to Ferraris and AMGs, there’s something for every petrolhead in Hart’s impressive garage. Kevin Hart’s supercar collection Hart is clearly a big fan of supercars, as he has a number of them in his collection. Ferrari features heavily, with not one but two Ferrari 488 GTBs in his garage. With one in red and one that’s black with red accents, he can mix it up depending on his mood. Not only does he have a 488 GTB, but also a 458 Spyder to enjoy those gorgeous Californian summer evenings. Alongside his Ferraris, he also has a Mercedes-Benz AMG SLS Black Edition. With its iconic ‘gullwing’ doors, snarling 6.2l V8 engine, and timeless styling, the SLS Black Edition is a hardcore GT car for performance enthusiasts. He also owns a stylish 2019 Aston Martin Vanquish, perfect for transporting Hart to black-tie galas across the city. Kevin Hart’s classic muscle cars While his supercars are cool by themselves, his classic cars are undoubtedly the coolest cars in his collection. Sadly, his gorgeous Plymouth Barracuda met a tragic end during 2019, but he has plenty of other cars in his collection. One of the jewels of Hart’s classic car collection is his Ford Mustang GT500E. Packing 725hp from its supercharged V8 engine, Hart’s custom Mustang is perfect for tearing up the canyons around LA and shocking any drivers in its way. When he doesn’t want to terrify the public, he also has a 1965 Mustang convertible which has also been customized just for Hart. As well as his Mustangs, he also owns a classic Pontiac GTO. While it may dwarf Kevin with its gargantuan size, the GTO is the ideal car for driving down Pacific Coast Highway during sunset, and it is sure to draw a crowd wherever it goes. Kevin has also been pictured with a Chevrolet Camaro SS a number of times, but it is unclear whether this is his personal car or not. View this post on Instagram Perhaps the most hilarious car Hart owns is his lifted, off-road styled Ford Bronco, which the actor has to jump to get into. Exotic cars in Kevin Hart’s collection There are also other awesome cars sat in Hart’s collection that don’t particularly fit into any categories. Cars such as his AMG G65, GMC Yukon XL Denali, and Ford Explorer may not be as exciting as his supercars or muscle cars, but certainly deserve a mention. Despite loving his attention-grabbing cars, Kevin also has a standard Range Rover for his ‘incognito’ travels, meaning he always has the perfect ride for any occasion.

  • Kanye West’s incredible $6.4m car collection will blow you away – Dexerto

Kanye West’s incredible $6.4m car collection will blow you away YouTube: X17onlineVideosRapper, designer, and entrepreneur Kanye West has a reported net worth of over $1.3 billion. While his fortune is invested in many areas, he has splashed a lot of his cash on cars. YouTuber Seb Delanney breaks down his incredible collection. Famed for his music, his shoe label Yeezy, and owner of a number of businesses, Kanye West is a household name. As you may expect for someone so fashion-conscious, Ye has a number of high-end cars in his garage. Not all of them are as conventional as you may expect. While there are some ‘typical’ supercars and exotics, there are some surprisingly incognito cars in his collection too. Kanye West cuts up a Maybach West has been spotted a number of times in a matte grey-wrapped, ~$150k Porsche Panamera Turbo. Most notably seen in Paris, his wife Kim Kardashian-West has also been seen behind the wheel. Perhaps more in keeping with the celebrity lifestyle is the Aston Martin DBS. Its naturally-aspirated V12 engine puts out 510hp, and costs around $215,000 when new. Famously, Kanye and Jay-Z cut up a Maybach for the Otis music video. Costing $411,000 new, the Maybach is now shared between Jay-Z and Kanye. Sticking with the German theme, West has been seen a number of times in his Mercedes McLaren SLR. Costing $350,000 new, these are now going up in price, and with its celebrity connection, Kanye’s is likely to be worth significantly more than that now. Kanye West’s supercars Not only does he own a standard SLR, but also the ultra-rare SLR Stirling Moss. Devoid of any windshield or windows, the whacky two-seater roadster is worth around $2 million. In typical rapper style, Ye also has a Lamborghini Urus. This super-SUV is powered by a twin-turbo V8, the Urus retails for upwards of $205,000. Kanye also went to town modifying his car, choosing to wrap it an unusual cream color and opting for a set of ‘monoblock’ wheels. Finally, the cherry on top of his collection is the Bugatti Veyron. One of the original 16.4 models, West reportedly paid nearly $3.5m for his Hermes version of the Veyron, which at the time was the fastest production car in the world. With a confirmed car collection totaling upwards of $6.4m, he has also been spotted in various other Lamborghinis, Porsches, and supercars, but it is unclear whether these were in fact his own or just rentals.

  • Justin Bieber’s massive car collection: Lambo, Maybach, more – Dexerto

Justin Bieber’s massive car collection: Lambo, Maybach, more Instagram: @justinbieberJustin Bieber, a one-time teenage heartthrob and now popular singer/songwriter has an incredible car collection. With a plethora of exotic cars and rare models, his taste will turn you into a ‘Belieber’ in no time. Justin Bieber‘s net worth is estimated to be around $285 million, thanks to his impressive back-catalog of chart hits. Despite being only in his mid-twenties, Bieber has amassed an incredible and diverse collection of cars. YouTuber Seb Delanney dissects his collection. One of his first cars was a custom Project Kahn Range Rover. In typical ‘young celebrity’ style, Justin opted for a fully blacked-out spec, with matte paintwork and dark tinted windows to allow for maximum privacy. Justin Bieber car collection 2020 From there, Bieber was quick to dive into supercars. His first-ever supercar was a Ferrari F430, which even today is an incredible machine. With 483hp from its naturally-aspirated V8 engine, it proved to be a ‘gateway supercar’ for Justin to build his collection rapidly. One of his wildest cars was a V8 Audi R8. In itself, it’s a very sensible supercar, so Bieber opted to wrap it in a polarizing leopard-print finish. In comparison to his more subtle Kahn Range Rover, there was nothing incognito about his R8. Since his R8, Justin has had a number of fully-customized cars in association with renowned tuners West Coast Customs in LA. One of their first projects was to convert a Cadillac CTS-V into what he called ‘Batman spec’ complete with rear-hinged doors, a matte black finish, and ‘Batman’ badging. Justin Bieber’s custom cars His Fisker Karma was one of the strangest vehicles he’s ever owned. One of the first-ever ‘plug in’ luxury hybrid vehicles, Bieber was gifted the car by his manager for his birthday. If the Karma wasn’t odd enough already, JB then went on to wrap it in chrome, and add neon ‘underglow’ lights. Owning at least one Rolls-Royce seems to be a rite of passage for any celebrity, and Bieber is no exception. Justin owns both a Phantom and a Ghost and has been spotted being chauffered around LA in the back of them. Read more: Future reveals insane custom Chevrolet truck – In complete contrast to the lavish Rolls-Royces, one of his best-known cars was his Ferrari 458. He went through no less than three different iterations of the 458, eventually auctioning it off for charity. While he seems to have an affection towards Ferraris, Justin also appears to be a fan of Lambos too. It has been confirmed that he has owned an Aventador S which he wrapped in several different colors. Not only that, but he has also owned a Lamborghini Urus. The Urus wasn’t left in its factory black paintwork for long either. In one of his boldest moves yet, JB wrapped it in hot pink, before opting for a more toned-back sand color. Since then, he has been papped a number of times behind the wheel, and this appears to be his daily driver for now. With so many rumors flying around about him owning other cars (such as a LaFerrari) his collection could be even crazier than reported. If his history is anything to go by, however, it won’t be long before his next crazy car purchase.

  • Jon Rettinger reveals key differences between all Tesla Model 3 variants – Dexerto

Jon Rettinger reveals key differences between all Tesla Model 3 variants Jon Rettinger YouTube[jwplayer w1ZPKpvN]Popular YouTuber Jon Rettinger examined the key differences between the Tesla Model 3 family, and explained just how each variant stacks up against one another when looking closer under the hood. Tesla dethroned Toyota Motor Corp. as the world’s most valuable automaker on July 1, and as one of the most affordable entry points in their lineup, the Model 3 has attracted the eyes of many potential car enthusiasts since it entered production in 2017. However, the different packages that the esteemed model comes in can be pretty confusing, since the company’s website nor showrooms have all of the options readily available to review, so Rettinger broke down the nuance truths about every kind. The appearance shouldn’t play too much into the decision-making, according to the YouTuber. Every Model 3 looks near-identical, which takes that particular pressure off of future buyers. One of the most basic entry models is called the Standard Range Plus, which goes 0-60 in 5.3 seconds with a top speed of 140 MPH. At around $38,000 to start, this model will give drivers about a 250 mile range before having to recharge. “[The Model 3 Standard Range Plus] didn’t have music streaming, didn’t have an internet browser, and a bunch more,” Rettinger said, noting how the car gets better over time. “Via the over-the-air software updates, the car got all of that.” For a starting price at $47,000, the Dual Motor Long Range will start to include some premium features along with an increased range that gives drivers a 322 mile limit per charge. With an uptick in the sound system, premium seating, and the like, this is where your money starts to provide a bit more comfort to a vehicle that can go 0-60 in 4.4 seconds while topping out at 145 MPH. Read more: GTA coming to Tesla? Elon Musk teases fans – But if you’re okay sacrificing a bit of range for a faster car, the Performance Long Range at $55,000 is going to be the deluxe package to aim for. This model has a top speed of 162 MPH but only a 299 mile range because of the 22-inch wheels that come with this entry. Then there’s the Full Self-Driving Capability upgrade option for about $8,000, which bolsters the standard Autopilot feature that is highly sought-after by enthusiasts. The Model 3 has been a favorite with Rettinger because of the overall value that it gives to consumers, and should be a popular buy-in for drivers for some time to come.

  • Jon Olsson explains why $1.9m Koenigsegg with 1700hp is his dream car – Dexerto

Jon Olsson explains why $1.9m Koenigsegg with 1700hp is his dream car YouTube: Jon OlssonOften blending the hypercar lifestyle with the practical necessities dictated by having a family is nigh-on impossible. The Koenigsegg Gemera is the perfect answer to that problem, and Jon Olsson sizes one up as a possible future addition to his garage. While we’ve all probably dreamt of having a fleet of multi-million dollar hypercars sitting on our driveway, skier and YouTuber Jon Olsson experienced exactly that in one of his latest videos. With the entire current Koenigsegg production catalog sitting on his driveway, it was a wonderful case of Swedish hypercar-induced sensory overload for Jon, though one car in particular stood out from the rest; The all-new $1.9 million Koenigsegg Gemera. This four-seat, near-1700hp hybrid hypercar is the first of its kind in the world. Power comes from a combination of the turbocharged 2.0-liter 3-cylinder combustion engine and the three electric motors that together produce an incredible 1677hp and 2581 lb/ft of torque. The Gemera makes an ideal family car Since Jon is now a father, the practicalities of the Gemera greatly appealed to him, as did the range of nearly 1000km between refueling/recharging stops. Jon explains that previously while on the Gumball Rally, he and his teammate would eat apples to help cut down on rest stops, though clearly that wouldn’t be needed with the Gemera. Being the worlds first (and only) 4-seat hypercar has it’s advantages, too. He notes that the space in the back is ‘unreal’ meaning it would be perfect for himself, his wife Janni, and son Leon to enjoy together as well as being an incredibly fun car to drive. Jon’s new favorite car? The Gemera’s visually arresting styling also caught the attention of Jon, noting the incredible size of the automatic vertically-opening doors, sleek Swedish design, and incredible road presence. Having learned the difficulty of low garages with his G500 AMG, Jon was also happy to learn the doors have sensors to stop them from smacking into walls or low roofs when opened. Jon admitted that the Gemera is “currently the car on the planet I want the most, no competition” so perhaps we’ll see a new addition to his exotic lifestyle. With two thirds of the 300 Gemeras already sold, he might need to make a quick decision.

  • Joe Rogan’s incredible car collection featuring Chevrolet, Porsche & Tesla – Dexerto

Joe Rogan’s incredible car collection featuring Chevrolet, Porsche & Tesla YouTube: THE DRIVEJoe Rogan may be best-known for his work podcasting and hosting UFC fights, but he also has an incredible car collection too. From eco-friendly Teslas to gas-guzzling muscle cars, Rogan has something for everyone in his car collection. Joe Rogan is one of the most successful podcasters ever, having recently signed an incredible deal worth a reported $100 million with Spotify for the rights to his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. With a net worth estimated to be around the $100 million mark, Rogan has used his money to build up an incredibly eclectic car collection. We’ve picked out some highlights from his garage below, including some tasty one-off custom builds. Joe Rogan’s Car Collection Rogan doesn’t appear to have any overriding rhyme or reason behind his collection, preferring to mix things up every now and again. This has lead to a very varied mix of cars, but his garage is all the better for it. One of the cars that Rogan talks about regularly on his podcast is his Tesla Model S. The only fully-electric car in his fleet, Rogan famously said the Model S was “the most preposterously quick vehicle” that he had ever driven. By complete contrast to the Model S, Joe’s other ‘modern’ vehicles have a distinctly less eco-friendly approach. His gas-guzzling Porsche GT3 RS is a perfect example, as it would struggle to do 20mpg. Nevertheless, his GT3 RS is hailed as one of the best-handling Porsches ever built, and is a firm favorite for Rogan. Not content with a standard GT3 RS, Rogan’s car is tuned by famous performance house Sharkwerks, boosting the power and drivability of this already insanely quick car. Alongside his Porsche, Joe also has a Ford Mustang, powered by the 5.0l Coyote V8 engine. From the factory, these cars push out over 400hp and a bucket load of torque – plenty of fun without being too rare for Joe to park on the street. Joe Rogan’s muscle cars It’s well-known that Joe is a fan of brutish American muscle cars, and he has a number of examples in his car collection. ‘Shark Fish’ is the name that Joe has given his customized Plymouth Barracuda, which was designed by the famous Chip Foose. With custom bodywork and a massive HEMI V8 engine under the hood, Rogan often lends out ‘Shark Fish’ to various car shows and displays. Alongside the aforementioned ‘Cuda, Rogan also owns another majorly-modified muscle car. His gorgeous ’65 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is worthy of a place in an art gallery, but it hides a big secret. Under the hood of this iconic classic sits a modern LS1 V8 engine complete with supercharger. This build was so well-known, it was even showcased on an episode of Jay Leno’s garage. As well as his muscle cars, Joe also owns a number of other unusual vehicles. His custom ‘Icon’ Ford Bronco and Toyota Land Cruiser are worthy of plenty of attention, without shouting about their presence. An E46 BMW M3 also forms part of his collection, which he has previously said is “perfectly balanced.” While the exact sum of Joe’s collection is difficult to ascertain thanks to its very customized nature, we expect it to be around the $1m mark. With Rogan, it’s a case of quality over quantity, and the result is a stunning collection that anyone would be proud of.

  • Joe Rogan tells Post Malone why self-driving cars are the future – Dexerto

Joe Rogan tells Post Malone why self-driving cars are the future Youtube: PowerfulJREJoe Rogan sat down with Post Malone to discuss self-driving cars, Rolls-Royces and more on his latest JRE Podcast episode, including why Joe thinks autonomous cars will be the safest way to travel. In his time as host of the Joe Rogan Experience, Joe has spoken to numerous industry leaders on his channel about autonomous driving and self-driving cars, though it seems that this week’s guest Post Malone wasn’t so excited about the concept of being driven around by a computer. Joe Rogan’s love for self-driving cars Rogan has often shown support for the future of autonomous driving on his show, stating that the future of driving will be safer, and that self-driving cars will ‘eliminate auto accidents’ during his interview with Post. Post Malone by contrast disagrees, citing the film ‘Upgrade’ over his concerns that hackers will be able to take control of self-driving cars, as well as saying he will ‘always’ drive his own vehicles. With self-driving cars and taxis still a few years away from being a reality, Joe thinks the younger generations will adapt quickly. He states that since they use Lyft or Uber and “barely drive anywhere” they are used to simply being a passenger rather than driving for themselves, and will, therefore, adapt faster. Topic begins at 1:17:05 Self-driving car safety Joe then goes on to explain that self-driving cars would eliminate issues such as drunk drivers, therefore saving lives of both other drivers and innocent bystanders. It seems like it’s a win-win situation right? Autonomous cars would also give people more control over their environment, safety. It also provides more control over “what they can and can’t do” which would make the world far safer according to Rogan. Rogan also tries to convince Post, saying if he smashed into a (self-driving) car in his “crazy Bronco” then it’s his fault, but Post quipped back saying “that’s how I like it!” Post then goes on to explain how he likes being in control as opposed to being a passenger, and how his fear of flying is due to the lack of control in the situation; Therefore it would be the same situation for him with the concept of self-driving cars. Autonomous vehicles are a hot topic at the moment, so it’s certainly interesting to hear the views of someone outside of the automotive tech industry in this episode. With nearly 4 hours of conversation between the two of them covering a variety of weird and whacky topics, this is one JRE episode you don’t want to miss. Post Malone’s car collection While Post is best known for his music career, he also has a significant car collection ranging from a Rolls-Royce Wraith to a crazy 1992 Ford Explorer. Inside West Coast Customs went all out with @PostMalone’s Explorer. #westcoastcustoms @officiallwcc pic.twitter.com/eZW0q7cMM1 — MotorTrend Entertainment (@MotorTrendEnt) November 11, 2017 He even named a track after his Explorer, which has crazy spinner wheels and insane Lamborghini-style doors.

  • Joe Rogan surprised by “unacceptable” issue found in Tesla Model S – Dexerto

Joe Rogan surprised by “unacceptable” issue found in Tesla Model S Joe Rogan Experience YouTube / TeslaThe titular host of the Joe Rogan Experience (JRE) was confused after learning of a bizarre issue in the Tesla Model S spotted by ICON master craftsman Jonathan Ward. Ward, a former-actor-turned-car-manufacturer, is known for his custom creations that marry old-fashioned vehicle builds with the power and tech of the modern age. As such, Ward was able to spot an “unacceptable” design flaw in the backseat of the premium Tesla that surprised Rogan. When it comes to cars, Rogan is no slouch, but even he was astounded about the complaint since it’s something that you really need to pay attention to in order to realize it. In the backseat of a Tesla Model S P100D, as Ward explained, the three-point shoulder seat belt retractor lets out a “cold breeze” while also letting through road noises that were prominent enough to detract from the car-riding experience. “Have you ever sat in the backseat?” Ward asked Rogan, probing to see if the host would have a context to the complaint. “The noise coming out of that third-point seat belt retractor is so unacceptable for modern car standards.” Almost instantaneous to hearing the flaw, Rogan was baffled at the complaint. The podcast host admitted that he had actually never ridden in the backseat of his Model S, so it might have been a bit lost on him. (Timestamp at 1:00 for mobile viewers) “This s**ts coming up through the plastic wheel well and a noise and a cold breeze is hitting your outward ear,” Ward explained. “Okay, how did this s**t happen? There’s a damn draft that comes up through there and you’re hearing road noise through it.” While it might sound like a menial complaint, the context of the flaw and who noticed it is important to note. Ward’s catalog of production models for his ICON brand start at around $160,000, and only ramps up from there. The builder takes high-quality parts and puts them together with time and precision, resulting in a product that’s made his family-owned business notable in the industry. Tesla, the benchmark for a premium electric vehicle manufacturer, mass produces its top-of-the-line Model S at a base of around $74,000. So there were bound to be some discrepancies with the vehicle, especially under the lens for someone like Ward. “For guys like us: yes, it’ll annoy the piss out of you,” Ward said.

  • Jeremy Clarkson’s impressive car collection is a petrolhead’s dream – Dexerto

Jeremy Clarkson’s impressive car collection is a petrolhead’s dream YouTube: Jeremy Clarkson Fan ChannelPetrolheads around the world will recognize the name Jeremy Clarkson. Once part of BBC’s Top Gear and now the host of the legendary Amazon Prime show The Grand Tour alongside May and Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson naturally owns quite a sizable car collection, along with a few surprises. Jeremy Clarkson will go down in history as one of the biggest personalities that any car-based TV show will ever be linked to. Naturally, his years at the helm of various car shows, along with his history in journalism, has led him to owning an impressive collection of cars. It’s not just cars in Jeremy’s garage, though. Having taken on his farm during 2019, he also owns a number of unusual machines, including a rather strange Lamborghini. Here are our highlights from Clarkson’s incredible collection. Jeremy Clarkson’s supercars Of course, Clarkson has a number of performance cars and supercars in his car collection. One of the most famous cars in his collection was the Ford GT, which he actually sent back to Ford after a well-documented issue with the alarm. He also has a well-known love affair with AMG’s products. His first was an SL55 AMG roadster, though it wasn’t to be his last. Clarkson has also owned a number of other AMG-badged cars, including a CLK63 Black Series. Given his history around supercars, Clarkson has owned more than most people would ever dream of having. These include, but are not limited to: Ferrari 355 GTS – Mercedes-Benz AMG SL55 AMG Roadster – Mercedes-Benz AMG CLK63 Black Series – Aston Martin Virage – Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder – McLaren 675LT – Ford GT – Lotus Elise 111S – Classic Cars in Jeremy Clarkson’s collection It’s not just the latest-and-greatest cars that are in Jeremy’s collection. There are also a number of classic cars in his fleet, including one of the most iconic BMWs ever made, as well as some vehicles from his time on Top Gear and The Grand Tour. The most unusual car in Clarkson’s collection is undoubtedly ‘The Excellent.’ Created as part of a challenge on The Grand Tour, it is a lifted Mercedes SL convertible mated to a Land Rover chassis. Alongside ‘The Excellent’ he also owns the gorgeous Alfa Romeo GTV6 that featured on the Scottish special episode during Season 2. He even knew that he’d own it after filming, saying during the show “generally when we finish these jobs these cars end up, I don’t know where. But I know where this will end up; At my house.” Finally, the standout car from the collection is one of the most iconic BMW’s ever designed – the 3.0l CSL. Nicknamed ‘the Batmobile’ due to its massive rear wing, the CSL is the first true performance BMW, and is an appreciating classic. While he doesn’t own all of them anymore, the full list of classics that Jeremy is known to own is impressive: BMW 3.0l CSL – Alfa Romeo GTV6 – Mercedes SL ‘The Excellent’ – Ford Escort Cosworth RS – Mercedes-Benz 600 Grosser Limousine – VW Golf GTI – VW Scirocco – The weirdest car in Clarkson’s collection While his crazy Grand Tour creations are certainly odd, most people wouldn’t expect Clarkson to own a certain Lamborghini. In this case, it’s a tractor for use on his farm – how very un-clarkson!

Jeffree Star reveals why he bought TheStradman’s custom Toyota Supra TheStradman, YouTube[jwplayer h3XPfMqQ]Beauty guru Jeffree Star has revealed why he bought the custom Toyota Supra that belonged to popular car enthusiast TheStradman. TheStradman has over 2.5 million subscribers on his YouTube channel and is known for his impressive car collection and documenting his experiences with some of the most expensive vehicles in the world. During his July 1 video, though, TheStradman revealed that he would be finally selling his classic widebody Toyota Supra, which was featured on the mainstage at the SEMA 2019 car show, to fellow content creator Jeffree Star. Star, for those of you that don’t know, is one of the most popular YouTubers in the beauty scene and while he is known for his highly successful JSC makeup line, he also boasts an incredible car collection that would leave many collectors in awe. TheStradman documented his journey in bringing the classic Supra to Jeffree Star, who revealed a full look at his garage when the car arrived, explaining just why he thought it would be a perfect fit for his collection. “I have a lot of crazy colors in my garage but this is next level,” Jeffrey admitted, pointing out the Toyota’s satin purple wrap and white rims, and claiming that it matched with another one of his cars, the pink Lamborghini Huracan. “Doesn’t it look like a sister to my Huracan with the wheels? It literally matches,” the beauty YouTuber added. Star explained that he was so impressed with how the car looked that he actually bought it before even getting to test it out himself. “I love buying something that I’ve never tried or sat in, it’s just cool,” he said. Although TheStradman was a bit reluctant to let the Supra go, he also got to check out some of the other cars in Star’s collection such as the Tiffany Blue McLaren Senna, which even left him considering purchasing one for himself. Despite picking up a new car for his collection, it has not been all good news for Jeffree Star, who has recently received a lot of backlash following the drama surrounding Shane Dawson and Tati Westbrook.

  • Jay Leno’s 5 weirdest, craziest and most expensive cars – Dexerto

Jay Leno’s 5 weirdest, craziest and most expensive cars Youtube: TheRichestOften referred to as “the hardest working man in showbiz” presenter and certified gearhead Jay Leno has one of the most diverse car collections on the planet. TheRichest takes a look at the highlights of his whacky collection. Ranging from ultra-expensive super and hyper-cars to “hysterical” and unusual concepts and prototypes; Jay Leno’s Garage plays host to one of the most varied car collections ever seen. Regularly bringing his cars out for viewers to enjoy on his YouTube channel, there are a number of stand-out highlights from the collection, as shown by YouTubers TheRichest in their September 8 video. The most expensive – McLaren F1 Still holding the crown for the fastest naturally-aspirated production car ever made, the McLaren F1 is an ultra-limited hypercar from the 1990s. Given that only 106 McLaren F1s were built, it is a rare beast indeed. Jay was able to get the first example imported into the USA which was valued at around $12m at the time. Since then values have only gone up, making this the most expensive car in Jay Leno’s collection. The fastest – Koenigsegg Trevita CCXR While the McLaren F1 is able to break the 200mph barrier, the incredible Trevita CCXR would leave the McLaren in its wake. Worth $4.8m and capable of a whopping 254mph top speed making it the fastest car that Jay owns, the CCXR is the brainchild of hypercar genius Christian Von Koenigsegg. One of only 3 made, the CCXR is also one of the rarest cars in Leno’s collection, and was actually hand-delivered by CVK himself! The Weirdest – Blastolene Special Created by engineer Randy Grubb, the Blastolene Special utilizes the engine from a Patton tank, mated to a custom-build chassis and bodyshell. With its outrageous proportions, totally over-the-top powerplant, and retro styling, The ‘special’ wouldn’t look out of place in a sci-fi ‘steampunk’ style movie. Rather than simply park it and stare at it, Leno actually drives the ‘special’ around LA to local hot rod meets, having made a few minor tweaks to improve the driving experience. Not only has he improved the driving characteristics, but Leno also boosted the power to 1600hp thanks to turbocharging the engine. The Oldest – Stanley Steamer Built for the ill-fated Vanderbilt Cup race during the turn of the century, the Stanley Steamer hails from 1906. During the early 1900s, engineers experimented with using steam power for automobiles, and this along with an identical twin car were ordered from Stanley for racing purposes. Sadly the race never went ahead, and the Steamer has since found its way into Leno’s collection. To ensure the car is safe and road-legal, Leno has performed a number of upgrades such as installing Jaguar drum brakes and battery-powered lights, meaning he can drive the Stanley at night. The Greenest – Tesla Model S Perhaps the most surprising addition to Leno’s fleet is the Telsa Model S. Powered by electricity, many would expect Leno to be anti-Tesla as they are often seen by petrolheads as ‘boring’. Leno is in fact a big fan of his Tesla, saying that it makes “gas-powered cars obsolete” with its range, instant torque, and staggering performance. With such a whacky, weird, and crazy collection, be sure to check out the full video from TheRichest below to explore more of Jay Leno’s personal collection, as well as a few guest car highlights from his show. While Jay often says he has no favorites, he has said the McLaren F1 is “just about perfect” so we suspect that if he had to choose, that would be ‘the’ car for him.

  • Jay Leno reveals why he likes Aston Martin on his YouTube channel – Dexerto

Jay Leno reveals why he likes Aston Martin on his YouTube channel Iconic American comedian Jay Leno has revealed his review of the 2019 Aston Martin DB11 AMR, explaining why he loves showcasing vehicles from the manufacturer. The YouTuber, who has over 2.75 million subscribers on the video sharing platform, can often be seen reviewing and driving around in all sorts of different vehicles on their channel – with the 2019 Aston Martin DB11 AMR being showcased during an upload on January 5. In what was his first video of the new year, Leno decided to run his viewers through the reasons why he really enjoys having Aston Martin cars feature in his content. “I’m a huge fan of this brand. I always call Aston Martin the most seductive of all of the carmakers because that’s really what it does to you,” the former late night show host said, glaring at the DB11. He added: “Extremely comfortable, sort of Rolls-Royce level interior with the leather, the wood and all of that.” If you’re impressed by this car video, there’s a lot more where that came from on his channel. Leno reportedly has 286 different vehicles in his collection, according to his Wikipedia profile, 169 of which are different model cars. “I love the fact that it’s still a small English company. It’s not part of something else or using somebody else’s name,” he said, before taking it for a spin. Aside from those that he owns, he’s also producing a number of reviews working with representatives from the manufactures – just like this video below. The featured car for this week has a powerful V12 twin-turbo engine and can reach a maximum speed of 208mph, with 630bhp. The YouTuber appears to have a soft spot for this 2019 model as well, claiming that it’s not the type that the owner’s spouse is going to complain about. For those interested in buying one, you can pick up the vehicle for around $241,000, depending on the spec selected – per edmunds.com. He added: “This sort of does everything it wants. It’s a real car that you can drive really hard, push it really hard, but still be extremely comfortable for long trips and things of that nature. I mean, I just find them to be fantastic cars.” Whether or not the comedian will be adding any fresh Aston Martins to his collection in the near future remains to be seen, although this video would suggest that it’s highly likely.

  • Jay Leno explains why the 1932 Mercedes-Benz SSKL is so special – Dexerto

Jay Leno explains why the 1932 Mercedes-Benz SSKL is so special Iconic American comedian Jay Leno explains what makes the 1932 Mercedes-Benz SSKL is one of the most “legendary” vehicles in history, after taking it for a spin during a video on his YouTube channel. The former talk show host has been showcasing a number of different vehicles as part of his YouTube review series, including not just some of the finest specimens from the past, but also some of the hottest sets of the wheels on the market today as well – such as the Aston Martin DB11 AMR, Ducati motorcycles and more. However, it was very much a blast from the past with his upload on January 13 as the 69-year-old introduced not just one of the most impressive Mercedes-Benz cars inside his garage, but also welcomed in a manager of the company – Michael Kunz – to talk about what made this model great. Kicking things off, both of their hair was seen flying all over the place as they zoomed around the highway in a recreation of the noisy, roofless vehicle, before giving viewers a closer look at it in the garage itself. “This was the height of technology in the late 20s and early 30s, one of the most amazing cars of all time. In fact, the SSKL is probably the basis for every bad replica car kit you’ve seen over the years,” Leno said. “It’s just an amazing car with a supercharger that makes just the most screaming noise you’ve ever heard. It’s just a legendary car.” The SSKL was a two-door roadster, packing a supercharged 7.1-litre engine that could be heard screaming down the race tracks – and roads in this video – from a fair bit away. It was so loud, however, Leno claims drivers were told not to use the supercharger for over 10 seconds due to the noise it makes when running. You can see that, and more, when he takes it out on the road during his latest review. Timestamp in the video below at 1:28. While modern-day vehicles are always judged on their beauty, their design, the speed, engine and mechanics, Leno was very blunt about what made this Mercedes special. Leno added: “This is just unbelievable, you know. This is one of the cars that I first saw when I was a little kid. It just made all the right noises, looked massive, looked imposing. This just frightened the hell out of every other race car around.” What car he will be reviewing next remains to be seen, but after seeing something as iconic as this showcased in his garage, it’s going to take some stopping.

  • Jay Leno blown away on YouTube channel by artist Stuart Parr’s motorbike – Dexerto

Jay Leno blown away on YouTube channel by artist Stuart Parr’s motorbike YouTube: Jay Leno’s GarageFormer late-night talk show host Jay Leno was left blown away by artist and designer Stuart Parr’s modern-day remake of the classic MV Agusta Magni motorbike after he used a Brutale 800 to make it a reality. Ever since hosting The Tonight Show Jay Leno has been noted as one of the world’s biggest car fanatics. Since retiring from television duties, Leno has been using YouTube to delve into his collection and talk classic cars. In his most recent video, the famous TV host linked up with artist, designer, and motorbike enthusiast Stuart Parr to look over Parr’s modern-day remake of the MV Agusta Magni by using what was a Brutale 800. Parr explained to Leno how he’d been given the Brutale 800 and wanted to remodel it into the MV Agusta Magni, even though the classic bike hasn’t been criticized for not being the best looking vehicle. Though, he made it happen after flying out to Italy and getting the help of the Magni factory. Upon seeing it, Leno was pretty astounded by good the remake actually was, praising how it looked like the one he had, though it had been given a bit more life with a new paint job and engine coloring. “You have to look at this for maybe half an hour to see all the little touches, all the little screws,” the former TV host remarked, impressed by the incredible attention to detail. Though, he didn’t just wax lyrical over the bike, he did manage to get it out on the road. As expected, he turned a few heads and let the bike’s engine sing while ripping across the open road. “Boy, that’s like the perfect retro motorcycle,” Leno added once he’d finished his ride. “It’s got the look that you want but with the modern precision, modern engineering.” Even though he was a massive fan of what he’d just ridden, it might be tough for Leno to get his hands on one of Parr’s designs. The artist revealed that there are plans for around 50 to be made and with Leno’s endorsement, they’re sure to be a hot commodity.

  • James May roasts YouTubers’ cars: Jeffree Star, Gordon Ramsay, more – Dexerto

James May roasts YouTubers’ cars: Jeffree Star, Gordon Ramsay, more YouTube: DRIVETRIBE/Jeffree Star/Gordon RamsayOnce again, former Top Gear presenter James May has made a video critiquing top YouTubers and celebrities’ cars, including the likes of Jeffree Star, Gordon Ramsay, Stradman, and more. Back in March 2020, May took to YouTube to roast other creators’ cars, including TJ Hunt, Doug Demuro, Jimmy Broadbent and more. Now, he’s at it again just over a year later, laying down his expertise and offering some thoughts. Of course, with YouTubers now driving in some eye-catching vehicles, May had a lot to say on his DRIVETRIBE channel. Stradman’s Bugatti Veyron “The only thing I’m not sure of is it was white, and he’s wrapped it purple… but he’s not wrapped it all in purple?” Read More: FaZe Swagg shows off his brand-new dream car – May is clearly a huge fan of the Veyron, but isn’t convinced by the purple wrap — something Stradman puts on all his cars. Tavarish’s ‘Bugatti Veyron’ “It’s B.A.D. It isn’t a Bugatti Veyron, is it? It looks the way a Veyron would look if you had to make it into a novelty telephone.” Tavarish attempted to turn his Honda Civic into a Bugatti Veyron and, while it looks similar, May just isn’t impressed. Lana’s Lamborghini Huracan “Some people say the Huracan isn’t really a Lamborghini because it isn’t outrageous enough, but I think it’s a nice piece of styling.” Mike Majlak’s ex-girlfriend and adult star Lana’s white Lambo Huracan is the envy of many, including James May. He’s clearly a huge fan of the car, and even has to take a moment to appreciate its finer assets. TJ Hunt’s Mercedes G Wagon “It’s terrible.” Not much to say on this one, James May looks at the lifted car, the bigger wheels and the yellow wrap and clearly wants to move on. Becky Evans (Queen B) Porsche 930 Turbo “I don’t really like old things that much. It is an extremely interesting and historically significant one to own. What worries me is that she’s financed it through drifting.” May clearly likes the car, saying he loved it as a child, but he’s got a little more to say on Becky’s drifting videos… Jeffree Star’s Rolls-Royce Cullinan “Oh, this is an abomination, this thing.” James doesn’t like the Cullinan at the best of times, but he clearly despises this car in its bright pink wrap that Star’s cars have become known for. Peter McKinnon’s F-150 Raptor “It’s a pickup truck, and I can’t see the case for a pickup truck unless you’re a landscape gardener and, in some cases, a builder. Why do you have a pickup truck?” May praises McKinnon’s video and photography skills, but questions why he would want to own this car in particular. Gordon Ramsay’s Porsche 918 Spyder “Do I approve? I have to, really. It’s pretty cool, actually. It’s a pretty fantastic car… Shame he can’t cook.” James doesn’t have the kindest words for the professional chef’s ability in the kitchen, but is a huge fan of Ramsay’s car collection, which also includes a La Ferrari. When it comes to cars, there are few that know as much as James May, with his work on Top Gear and The Grand Tour. That’s why him roasting your car is just about peak humiliation for any petrolhead.

  • James May reveals everything he hates about his Tesla Model S – Dexerto

James May reveals everything he hates about his Tesla Model S YouTube: DRIVETRIBEWith a history of roasting other people’s cars, it seems James May has now turned the table on himself. Having owned his Tesla Model S 100D for a year now, James summed up all the things he hates about the car. Tesla is often in the news about its questionable quality control process, autopilot issues, or stock prices. Usually, these stories are from news outlets or journalists who only live with the car for a short period of time, so it’s interesting to see what a long-term owner such as James thinks of the car. To start off with, James has trouble remembering the name of his own car. This sounds silly, but when you consider the full name is the ‘Tesla Model S 100D Long Range” it suddenly becomes a lot more understandable. Being frank and open from the outset, James is quick to say he does in fact “love” his Tesla, but he is “not a Tesla evangelist, or indeed an electric car evangelist” which also explains the Ferrari under the cover in the back of the video. Perhaps unsurprisingly, one of the first real issues with James’ Tesla is a technology problem. Despite being set up so that the pop-out door handles ‘present’ themselves automatically when he is nearby with the key, they still need to be manually activated to open. Convenience also seems to be a big issue, as the Model S automatically turns itself off when James steps out of the car. Useful if you should genuinely forget to turn the car off, but if you need to exit the car to open a gate (as demonstrated by James) it is somewhat of a frustration. There are also a few minor issues that become very annoying, very quickly for James. The automatic trunk closes with an unnecessarily loud beeping noise which “could wake 5 houses,” while the modernistic Tesla logo design is at odds with the ‘Model S’ and ‘P100D’ badges which James describes as being “from a spaghetti western.” Perhaps the thing that James hates the most about his Tesla is the “clonking” noise that comes from the rear suspension. It’s not just his car either, as he says it’s happened in every Model S he’s ever driven; There’s that famous Tesla quality control again! Oh, and he doesn’t like that it’s dirty, but that’s not really Tesla’s fault, is it?

  • James May reveals three car YouTubers you need to watch – Dexerto

James May reveals three car YouTubers you need to watch YouTube: DriveTribeSome say that nobody knows their cars better than James May, and with a lot of free time at home opening up, he’s revealed the YouTube channels he’s been watching to pass the time. The popular television presenter has had some time off from his work on The Grand Tour, just like many other people around the world given the current global situation, and one thing he’s been doing is clicking onto YouTube to get his daily fill of content. There are thousands of channels that specialize in car videos on the platform, one of which is DRIVETRIBE where May often features, but there are three in particular that have been shining brighter than others for him of late. Talking about his viewing habits in a new DRIVETRIBE video on April 16, he said: “I’ve come to the strange realization which is that I’ve been making videos, one way or another – Top Gear, then Grand Tour, my own shows, and YouTube, most recently DRIVETRIBE and FOODTRIBE… and I suddenly thought, rather than make videos, why not watch videos, which is much easier.” May stated that he is going to start talking more about what he watches on YouTube, so we’re sure many will be interested to see where this new series of videos takes us. Typically, he spends around two hours a night watching cars content – he says. From there, he went on to say that the three channels that have really caught his eye of late are the Fully Charged Show, Seen Through Glass, and TheSmokingTire, based on recent videos he has seen. Why have these YouTube channels caught his eye? (He reveals the YouTubers he’s been watching at 0:44 in the video below) Fully Charged Show Starting with the Fully Charged Show, he was particularly interested in a discussion about the world moving towards alternative forms of energy. For those who haven’t visited the channel before, it has over 650,000 subscribers and often discussions on there are about clean energy and having the vehicle industry switch to electricity. “He’s head butting a rather interesting issue. If we make a lot of power, a lot of electricity out of alternatives i.e. wind power mainly, because it’s stormy which it has been in Britain. What do you do with the electricity? Do you use it and actually get paid for consuming, or do you store it?” He added: “He’s talking mainly about batteries. Anyway, it’s a long video, but I find it fascinating,” before stating that it really got him thinking about the idea of burning things and whether or not we need to do that in the future. Seen Through Glass In the past, May has shown a real interest in the idea of switching to electric cars, explaining why he has reservations about the idea, but there’s no doubt that he’s supportive of the climate change movement the industry is experiencing. Nevertheless, moving onto the second channel he mentioned, The Grand Tour host revealed Seen Through Glass as his next pick. It has over 470,000 subs, posting regularly about different cars on the market and reviews, but it was his Ferrari F360 that was the draw. As an owner of a Ferrari, May was interested to see how things played out as the channel owner – Sam – recorded the mechanics as they worked on his car. TheSmokingTire Last, but certainly not least, was TheSmokingTire – a channel run by Matt Farah. May said: “SmokingTire on the Porsche Taycan is interesting right from the start because he addresses another important issue,” before trying several ways of saying the name of the popular model. Jokes aside, the YouTuber performs one of his patented one-take videos, with zero edits, driving the car around public roads and explaining what’s good – as well as what’s bad – about the $200,000 vehicle. Clearly, James was a big fan of his work. So, there you have it! Those are the three YouTube channels James May has been watching, and why he believes more should watch them as well. As noted, he is expected to continue dropping recommendations in the near future and once he does, we’ll be the first to let you know.

  • James May provides disappointing update on The Grand Tour Season 4 – Dexerto

James May provides disappointing update on The Grand Tour Season 4 Amazon Prime Video[jwplayer gUA1PWVE]The Grand Tour co-host James May has provided a bleak update on the future of The Grand Tour, with no clear insight into when filming will go ahead — and potential location for upcoming episodes. As with much of the entertainment sector, The Grand Tour has been put on hold throughout most of 2020 thanks to the ongoing global health crisis, and it stopped them from filming a Season 4 special of the show. While original plans would have seen May take an epic road trip around Russia with co-hosts Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson, this coincided with announcements of travel restrictions and heightened health concerns in March, forcing the trip to be called off. With some areas of the world starting to return back to normal, it looks like the Grand Tour crew, as well as distributors Amazon Prime Video, are thinking about how they can get the show back on the road. “The effects of lockdown on making TV shows is that we have to retract our ambitions for travel,” he told The Sun. “It’s not just, ‘Can we get on an aeroplane and go somewhere?’ but, ‘Are we going to be able to do anything when we get there?’ He continued: “We may have to accept that if you’re in Britain or America, us being in Cambodia or Africa is exotic, but for our viewers in those places us being in Ireland would be exotic. So maybe we have to start thinking a bit more like that.” Speaking highly of the opportunities available to the team across the UK, May hinted at some possible filming locations for their next special, including Scotland, Cornwall, Dorset, Wales and the Ring of Kerry in Ireland. May wanted to reiterate that it wasn’t all bad in terms of the future of the show, reiterating that it is “postponed, not canceled.” “I think Amazon would say the same thing,” he noted. “We would rather wait a bit longer rather than rushing it for the sake of it and coming out with something half-a*sed.” The most recent episode of The Grand Tour aired was Episode 1 of Season 4, which saw the trio travelling across Vietnam’s Mekong Delta in boats. When the rest of the season gets back underway, including the specials they have planned, remains a mystery; but rest assured they will be coming.

  • James May explains why he’s sold his gorgeous Ferrari 308 – Dexerto

James May explains why he’s sold his gorgeous Ferrari 308 YouTube: DRIVETRIBEThe Grand Tour host and television icon James May is well-known for his diverse car collection. It seems that May is moving with the times though, as he has put his gorgeous Ferrari 308 GTB up for sale. May is not one to shy away from new technology, in fact, he embraces it with open arms. He has previously been vocal about his love for the quirky BMW I3, and also owns a Tesla Model S as a daily driver. He has always been one for the classics too, but he is now downsizing his collection, having put his Ferrari 308 up for sale. Saying that it is “gone for good,” James reveals his reasons for selling in DRIVETRIBE’s September 27 video. “I liked looking at it… I just didn’t drive it!” In typical James style, he said the Ferrari has “fallen out of step with the spirit of the age” and felt it was time to replace it. Not only is it “old tech,” but there was also the small matter that he didn’t drive it – which is quite an issue for an old car such as the 308 GTB. That’s not to say all love was gone, however. May described the 308 as “one of the prettiest Ferraris ever made… I liked looking at it, I just didn’t drive it!” Confirming he still has a love for the Italian Ferrari brand, he clarifies that “of course I’m talking about the 308, I haven’t sold the (458) Speciale… that would be an absurd thing to do!” Despite selling off one Ferrari, it seems that there will be a Ferrari in May’s garage for the time being. Taking a loss He also reveals that he will be selling the Ferrari at a considerable loss. May explains that classic car prices have dropped a lot in the last year, meaning even a car with celebrity connections such as his hasn’t escaped depreciation. May also admits that buying the Ferrari was somewhat of a ‘bucket list’ experience for him: “Buying the 308 was like exorcising a demon from my youth… but I’ve done it now, the ghost is gone.” He added: “It’s an old car… and I don’t really like old cars, though everyone thinks I must,” as he also reveals that with the 308 gone, there are no classic cars left in his fleet. It remains to be seen if the 308 GTB will be replaced. Judging by the way May speaks of old cars, it is likely to be replaced by an EV of some sort – such is progress, after all.

  • James May explains the “massive problem” with electric cars – Dexerto

James May explains the “massive problem” with electric cars Instagram: jamesmaybloke / TeslaFormer Top Gear star James May has explained that electric cars still have one “massive problem” stopping him from being fully invested in the technological advancement. May, alongside former Top Gear co-hosts Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond, currently presents Amazon’s The Grand Tour, which follows in a similar vein to Top Gear and its focus on cars, with information and entertainment flowing freely throughout. With the recent rise in electric vehicles – particularly from the likes of Elon Musk’s Tesla – you would imagine he has a lot of experience with them, so his opinion is definitely one to listen to. And he thinks there is one major problem with electric cars that is holding them back despite the fact he owns a few. In a video uploaded on March 7, DRIVETRIBE are trying to convince May that he should buy a Mini Electric, MINI’s first venture into what he calls “the electric future.” Saying that he already owns an electric car, and has owned others in the past, he still has his concerns. “I just think that, despite being an advocate of the electric future, I think electric cars are heading for a massive problem.” Expanding on why he believes this to be so, May says: “Whichever way you cut it, the problem is still the batteries. They’re a lot better than they were… but it’s still not good enough, [because] they’re too heavy, the range isn’t big enough and they take too long to charge.” (Timestamp 10:00 for mobile viewers) May later explains that his Tesla is “the longest range money can buy,” but if you’re traveling a lot like he has to sometimes, and start basing your travel around where you can charge, you might end up spending more time driving just to stay on top of it. His final, resounding analysis is a simple one: “Until electric cars can charge in a few minutes, we’re going to be a bit shafted,” comparing electric vehicles to a “fantastic club” and that if lots of people start buying them, “we’re going to have huge problems.”

  • James May absolutely roasts YouTubers for the cars they drive – Dexerto

James May absolutely roasts YouTubers for the cars they drive DRIVETRIBE, YouTubeThe Grand Tour’s James May knows a fair bit about the vehicle industry and after being exposed to some of the cars top YouTubers are driving around in right now, it’s fair to say he wasn’t impressed. The former Top Gear co-host has enjoyed tremendous success in reviewing different inventions in the past, whether that’s top of the range vehicles in his TV shows or something more simple like breaking down the world’s best toys in Toy Stories. Clearly, he’s got a good eye for what works and what doesn’t. Now, during a video uploaded to the DRIVETRIBE YouTube channel on March 8, the successful presenter and journalist went through different content creators one by one and looked at the cars they had bought – including The Stradman, Mr JWW and more. Some left him reeling off a scathing review of their selections, while others saw him scratching his head. May has reviewed some of the world’s most popular classic vehicles in the past, but this time it was all about seeing what his verdict was on the stars of the future – people who create content online and get paid for it. While there were many names included in the list, his most brutal roasting was definitely targeted at Adam LZ with a little tongue-in-cheek comment. Adam has over 2.74 million subscribers on YouTube and regularly posts video on the platform drifting around in new cars, some of which are part of his personal collection. May said: “Oh yes, Adam LZ’s Nissan 370Z. Now, he’s put a twin turbo something or other in this and I think it develops something like 850 or 900 horse power he claims. Has he been put on the lie detector? Does he know it’s true?” He added: “I think it’s nearly killed him a couple of times. It looks like it should kill him. It looks like he might be grateful for it actually. Yeah, but no. The bonnet doesn’t fit, the hood I should say, never have your engine exposed.” The former Top Gear man was slightly kinder with other content creators, though, but not all. He described Seen Through Glass’ Ferrari 360 as one of those made by the manufacturer that really looks good in red, while describing Supercars of London’s Lamborghini Murcielago as “too fat and too big.” James May has been quite vocal about his concerns on many things in the car industry of late, including electric vehicles, which he says he’s a huge advocate of because they are helping the environment. However, battery issues – he believes – may he holding them back. He never held back his views on any of these YouTuber cars, though, in a revealing video. Will any of the creators respond by picking a car he actually likes in the future or perhaps even have him on their channel? We’ll have to wait and see.

  • Jake Paul’s exotic car collection will leave you speechless – Dexerto

Jake Paul’s exotic car collection will leave you speechless Instagram: @jakepaulYouTuber, boxer, and online personality Jake Paul has quite the car collection. From Lamborghinis to G-Wagons, Paul has an eclectic collection of exotic cars. Jake Paul, younger brother of Logan Paul, rose to fame initially via the long-departed app Vine, before expanding his career. Nowadays, he is known for a multitude of reasons from Disney Channel appearances to YouTube and boxing. Given his young age of only 23 at the time of writing, Paul also has quite a substantial car collection. With a vehicle for every use, his exotic cars are the envy of many smaller YouTubers. Jake Paul’s car collection Starting off his collection is his only electric car, a Tesla Model X. This gullwing-doored EV starts at around $80,000 and offers 305 miles of all-electric range. Jake decided to make his Model X stand out. With the help of famed tuning house West Coast Customs (of ‘pimp my ride’ fame) his Model X is now a true one-of-one. Featuring a custom wrap, carbon accents, and sandblasted details, this Tesla will stand out anywhere it goes. Read more: Kylie Jenner’s stunning car collection will make your jaw drop His custom Ford Focus RS is also a show-stopper, and has been extensively customized for Jake by WCC also. Having wrapped it in black camo to start with, he then opted for a ‘dazzle’ effect camo, with pinks, yellows, and blues. Not only did he re-wrap the car, but also installed a crazy rear wing kit, which made sure it was a true one-of-a-kind for the YouTube star. Jake Paul’s supercar The highlight of his car collection is his Lamborghini Huracan Performante. Finished in bright blue, his Lambo has 631hp from its naturally-aspirated, 5.2l V10 engine. Paul bought the “dream car” Huracan back in 2018 for $350,000, and has held on to it ever since. Alongside his Focus, Tesla, and Lamborghini, Jake has been spotted in a number of other cars. Ford GTs, Brabus 6x6s, a BMW M2, and Audi R8s have all featured on his social media accounts, but it is unclear whether these are his cars. Either way, for 23 years old, that is still a very respectable and impressive car collection – we can’t wait to see what he adds next.

  • Jake Paul reveals insane $100,000 “emergency response vehicle” – Dexerto

Jake Paul reveals insane $100,000 “emergency response vehicle” Jake Paul YouTubeYouTube star Jake Paul revealed his new Jeep that was turned into a massive “emergency response vehicle” with some serious upgrades throughout its frame. Coming off of his boxing win against AnEsonGib, Jake made good on his post-match promise of investing in more “depreciating assets” by purchasing the $100,000 mammoth that can traverse cars, uneven terrain, and even street barriers in his neighborhood. The younger Paul brother had full intention of utilizing the beast of a car that transformed a 1947 Willys Jeep CJ2A by infusing it with an engine block that churns out 815 horsepower while being propelled on four 54 inch tires. “So I ordered a Zombie apocalypse vehicle off of eBay and it’s arriving right now,” Jake said. He quipped that the escalating worldwide concerns made him want “a giant off-road vehicle that could handle anything and drive over cars.” But it didn’t look like even he was fully expecting the behemoth that was delivered to the Team 10 mansion. Both Jake and girlfriend Julia Rose looked minuscule riding together in the Black Ops 4×4 custom creation. Neither of the social media stars or the Team 10 mansion’s neighbors were ready for the absolute destruction and mayhem that the off-roading Jeep was about to unleash. “You guys literally wonder why every single person on the block is putting their house up for sale,” a neighbor said, smiling and astounded at Jake’s new car. “Because of this kid out here, this degenerate driving a tractor Jeep up the hill.” Paul can be seen going over a nearby hillside, trampling a stowed car on the Team 10 Mansion lot, and easily making its way down the concrete barriers of a nearby yard. Although, the car looked incredibly out of place on the road next to the sedans and SUVs that popular his local streets. Even Jake had creeping suspicions that the car was too powerful for the road, jokingly saying: “I was driving it and I was thinking ‘I think we’re going to blow up right now.’” The test drive went without a hitch, though, and Jake might be feeling pretty confident that he can pull through any crisis with his epic off-roading car.

  • YouTuber reveals whether new 2021 Jaguar F-Type R is worth the price – Dexerto

YouTuber reveals whether new 2021 Jaguar F-Type R is worth the price JaguarCars journalist Mat Watson got his hands on the 2021 Jaguar F-Type R sports car for a new video, and explored whether it was worth the starting price. The 2021 Jaguar F-Type isn’t even available for purchase until later this year, but the kind folks at Jaguar hooked Watson up with a bright yellow version for a 700km trek across the winding roads of Portugal for Carwow. Straight away, it was clear the F-Type sounded amazing and seemed to perform well on the wet, cobblestoned streets around the garage where the trip started. Once Watson was on the open road though, he ran into his first issue with how the F-Type R handled on busy European roads – a lack of automatic cruise control. “What is the point of having cruise control in Europe that doesn’t keep you a safe distance from the car in front?” the journalist asked as he tested the system out. “It’s just useless, you’re not going to use it.” Even though Watson said the vehicle was missing some “key tech” like automatic cruise control and finer tuned lane-assist, sitting in traffic isn’t where sports cars are supposed to shine – they’re supposed to have plenty of power, and the F-Type doesn’t disappoint. The base model of the F-Type R comes with a solid 2-liter, 4-cylinder supercharged 300 horsepower engine which only gets bigger along with the price tag. Top of the line models can reach upwards of 450 horsepower with a gnarly V8 turbocharged engine, but you’re also going be paying close to twice as much ($120,000) as the base model. Watson goes into much more detail in his video than we could fit in here, so if you’re a fan of Jaguar and/or cars that go fast while looking great, it’s worth giving the whole thing a watch.

  • Insane 3000hp truck literally explodes in front of crowd – Dexerto

Insane 3000hp truck literally explodes in front of crowd YouTube: Toxic Diesel PerformanceRunning highly-tuned vehicles on a dynamometer to assess the power they make is nothing new, but it seems that this Cummins diesel-engined monster truck was pushed beyond its limits, ending in spectacular fashion. For someone who has put thousands of hours worth of blood, sweat, tears, and money into a build to see it blow up in front of them is heartbreaking. Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened to the owners of this “Master Shredder” truck. Unlike most vehicle explosions, it does not seem that this build was done with a budget in mind. In this instance, the truck appeared to be well-built and executed, but was simply pushed beyond the limits of its endurance. Having previously registered an insane figure of 2,290hp on a run before the video starts, the owner, Shawn Baca, was determined to hit the coveted 3000hp mark. Aiming for 3000hp Despite the insane build work and tuning that has taken place on the ‘Master Shredder’, the engine still needed a little help to push it over the 3000hp mark. This is where Nitrous is used, made famous by the cult Fast & Furious movies. But, using Nitrous to boost power puts a huge strain on the engine and its internals, and it proved too much for the ‘Master Shredder’ in this instance. While on the dyno for its 3000hp run, the engine whistles its way up to peak power, before there is suddenly a massive fireball. A lucky escape Thankfully the dyno was up on a raised platform to provide a better viewing experience, though this also likely saved a number of people from injury. Shockingly, the driver managed to bail out of the truck and away from the dramatic explosion in time to only receive a burnt arm. The dyno operator also made a lucky escape, and was likely also saved by the elevated dyno as he was sat underneath the explosion. With everyone being safe and accounted for, now attention turns to either trying to rebuild the truck or building up its successor. While not turning out the way Shawn intended, a truck can be replaced, and he should be glad that nobody was seriously hurt.
