  • Warzone drama erupts as pro accused of hacking & fake cam during $75k tourney – Dexerto

Warzone drama erupts as pro accused of hacking & fake cam during $75k tourney Activision / PexelsThe Call of Duty: Warzone community was engulfed in drama as a pro got accused of using wall hacks and a fake monitor cam during a $75,000 tournament. After a one-hour delay, they were controversially cleared and the tournament resumed. There is no shortage of drama in competitive Warzone. And, with the RICOCHET anti-cheat still about a month away, it shouldn’t be surprising that people are vigilant about hacks when competing for life-changing money. That was precisely the case during BoomTV’s $75k Last Dance in Verdansk. During Game 5 of the seven-game Customs tournament, a player was questioned for a suspiciously accurate pre-fire in the Gulag. Then, the player was asked to show his Task Manager — at which point people realized that it wasn’t showing on his monitor cam. With questions surrounding the verifiability of said cam and the Gulag play, the tourney was delayed for an hour to investigate. Warzone pro accused of hacking for Gulag pre-fire during tournament Some drama in the Last Dance $75k Warzone tournament 👀 Players suspicious of this pre-fire in the Gulag, which took place in Game 5/8. pic.twitter.com/rmTdEfWVWK — Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) November 2, 2021 As you can see in the clip, ‘Ahzvm’ gets stunned mid-fight in the Gulag and then still hard plays exactly where ‘ScummN’ is. With his remaining bullets, he confidently pre-fires and secures the kill. Afterward, ScummN questioned the play in the tournament Discord where more people began to scrutinize the shot. Despite the drama beginning, Game 6 started before a conclusive verdict was made. The issue came back up when people began asking for more confirmation that Ahzvm wasn’t cheating. One such request was to see his Task Manager, which, as previously mentioned, did not appear on Ahzvm’s monitor cam. Warzone pro accused of ‘fake monitor cam’ To elaborate, initial concern was that he pre-fired in the Gulag without any info. Now, after his Task Manager didn’t show up on the monitor cam, the tournament is delayed and admins are investigating the situation. pic.twitter.com/Y0DU0ijsMo — DEXERTO Intel (@DexertoIntel) November 2, 2021 Once people saw that Ahzvm’s monitor cam was not only delayed but also not showing his gameplay monitor — the situation unraveled. The tournament was delayed indefinitely as admins and other players asked Ahzvm to answer questions and share his screen on Discord. Eventually, after an hour spent diving through his PC and even checking his emails, the streamer was cleared of foul play and the tournament continued. This followed additional investigations, including an older, banned account of his and other clips. While the situation seemingly ended with a calm resolution, it points to the tensions surrounding hackers in Warzone. One can only hope that those concerns are eased once the anti-cheat deploys with Vanguard integration.

  • Warzone’s controversial one-shot shotgun is back and dominating Rebirth Island – Dexerto

Warzone’s controversial one-shot shotgun is back and dominating Rebirth Island ActivisionCall of Duty: Warzone’s devastating one-shot Doom Shotgun has returned once again and is already dominating Rebirth Island. A September 2023 MW2 and Warzone update brought a Doom-themed crossover to Al Mazrah, complete with the Slayer’s double-barreled Super Shotgun. Excitement about the Doom bundle waned once players realized how overpowering the Super Shotgun Blueprint for the Lockwood 300 could become. The battle royale game quickly devolved into an experience wherein users were one shot by the gun, even when donning full armor. Activision removed the blueprint, but it’s now back in Season 5 Reloaded because of the Supreme Resurgence mode’s return to Rebirth Island. For reasons unknown, the Maelstrom Dual Trigger attachment for the Lockwood 300 resurfaced alongside the mode in question, despite being inaccessible in standard Warzone games. As such, the Doom Shotgun is once more dominating Call of Duty: Warzone’s Rebirth Island. And content creators such as tcTekk have shared gameplay footage of the meta weapon’s devastating effects on unsuspecting enemies. As seen in tcTekk’s gameplay video, all it takes is one good pull of the Doom Super Shotgun’s trigger to dispatch an opponent. The gun is not available to purchase via the in-game store at present, meaning only Call of Duty players who previously bought the content can use it now. How long the Doom shotgun will remain in play before developers take action is not yet known. But the meta weapon’s still-broken, one-shot capabilities suggest Warzone developers did not add it back in on purpose. Notably, this is not the first time the Doom Slayer’s infamous Super Shotgun has reared its head since its original removal from Warzone. The so-called “pay-to-win” weapon reappeared in the Season 3 Reloaded update released on May 1, 2024. It did not take long for Call of Duty developers to step in and correct the error.

  • Warzone DMR still overpowered after nerf?! StoneMountain64 interview | CharlieIntel Podcast #15 – Dexerto

Warzone DMR still overpowered after nerf?! StoneMountain64 interview | CharlieIntel Podcast #15 Mike & Keshav welcome StoneMountain64 and SuperEvan to the latest episode of the CharlieIntel Podcast. In this week’s episode, we discuss the DMR’s dominance in Warzone and its recent nerf; how new Warzone stat-tracking apps have been manipulating skill-based matchmaking, and rumors that Sledgehammer Games will be developing the upcoming 2021 Call of Duty title. The DMR has been an extremely contentious weapon since Season 1 launched back in December 2020, with players flocking to the weapon due to its overpowered nature. A recent patch claimed to fix this, but the nerf feels incredibly minor, with StoneMountain64 seeing people online that are staunch in claiming that the nerf did nothing at all. SuperEvan hops into the podcast to detail why he switched back into the Call of Duty franchise after moving over to Fortnite as the battle royale was initially gaining traction. With Modern Warfare’s Warzone, though, he decided to put the time and effort into making a splash for himself within the scene, and it undoubtedly paid off. 2021 is set to be an increasingly interesting year as we deal with the shifting meta and Sledgehammer Games taking the lead on the upcoming installment. • Warzone disables Fighter & Bomber Planes after repeated game crashes – Dexerto

Warzone disables Fighter & Bomber Planes after repeated game crashes ActivisionRaven Software have disabled Fighter and Bomber Planes in Vanguard Royale after players reported them causing the game to crash over and over. As part of Warzone’s transition over to the Pacific, the battle royale saw the addition of a WWII-style Fighter Plane to the game. Pacific Season 2 brought another winged machine to the arsenal with Bomber Planes, which fans have been having a blast with. While pilots have been terrorizing the opposition with these flying machines, it appears the airspace is a bit too crowded as they are causing the game to crash. Warzone disables planes on Vanguard Royale In a tweet on March 4, Raven Software informed the community that they will be turning off Fighter and Bomber planes until further notice. ❗️ Fighter and Bomber Planes have been disabled in Vanguard Royale modes while we investigate an issue. Sorry, pilots! Time to complete those Contract missions on foot! 🛬https://t.co/edzAWe4wCC — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) March 4, 2022 As marked on their Trello board, the airborne vehicles are disabled as Raven work to figure out what is causing the planes to remove players from the game. This comes off the back of Warzone player’s reports that these are the sole reason that their games are unplayable. One instance of this came six hours before the devs addressed this issue. Hey @RavenSoftware I am almost positive that planes are crashing peoples games – and I mean a LOT of people. Its almost like if a certain amount are flying at once like 30+ people crash at the same time. Might need to nerf the amount of planes in VG Royale🥲 — Nick “ProReborn” (@ProRebornYT) March 4, 2022 KARNAGE member ProReborn took to Twitter as he voiced his concerns over the game freezing. He said, “I am almost positive that planes are crashing people’s games.” Reborn elaborated that, if multiple people are in the air at the same time, all pilots will have their game crash, making the lobby lose over 30 players. At the moment, it is unclear the exact reason why planes are crashing people’s game. But, we do know that they are playing a huge role in it. We will update you when a fix is released and when pilots will be able to return to the skies of Caldera.

  • Warzone director hits back at Monarch event criticism: “Having fun isn’t for everyone” – Dexerto

Warzone director hits back at Monarch event criticism: “Having fun isn’t for everyone” ActivisionWarzone’s Operation Monarch may not have been everyone’s cup of tea, but criticism of it has clearly irked one of the game’s leading devs who has responded to the negative feedback of the King Kong vs Godzilla LTM. There’s a feeling that CoD Warzone isn’t quite as serious as it once was, with more outlandish crossovers causing the game to lose some of its identity. Introducing John McClane and Rambo into the fray in 2021 was somewhat divisive, but allowing players to run around as characters from Attack on Titan was too much. It seems that Activision are happy for Warzone to get surprising crossovers like this and none more evident by the majorly hyped Operation Monarch LTM. Monster icons King Kong and Godzilla provided special skins, finishing moves, and also got a special game mode in Caldera. The response to the LTM wasn’t amazing, with popular streamers NICKMERCS and Dr Disrespect very critical of it and players calling it “disappointing.” All the pre-release material for Operation Monarch suggested we would get an epic battle between King Kong and Godzilla with players caught in between. This didn’t really happen though, as the two Hollywood icons avoid each other throughout the match and Warzone fans felt let down. A poll was conducted by Call of Duty Twitter page ModernWarzone to see where the general consensus was on the LTM. “Was Operation Monarch a W or an L?” the poll asked, and it was a majority result with 70% of the 24,194 votes going in favor of an L. 70% of players said that Call of Duty Warzone’s Godzilla vs Kong event titled #OperationMonarch was an L. Sample size: 24,194 pic.twitter.com/fmO7BKcEA1 — ModernWarzone (@ModernWarzone) May 12, 2022 A Warzone Reddit post showed a Twitter user asking Raven Software Creative Director Ted Timmins if he had seen the poll, to which he replied: “I respect all opinions and views, having fun isn’t for everyone.” The comments to the Reddit post were also similar to the poll in that a few people could understand Timmins’ frustration — given the constant negativity towards the game. “I thought it was fun. There were just certain issues that made me not enjoy it, though, but it was fun!” Nintendo_Pro_3 said and received support for the viewpoint too. Other players were not so forgiving, with one player saying: “It was fun for about 30min. Didn’t bring me back to the game for a minute longer. I’m sure they have the data on that. The question is are these game modes added to bring people back long term, or just advertise a movie in the short term. Probably the latter. Dude got his fat paycheck from Hollywood, that’s all they care about.” As some people replied, this poll only represents a minuscule portion of the game’s playerbase, so these numbers might not reflect the larger share of fans.

  • Warzone devs would “love” 200 player matches but explain why it’s not possible – Dexerto

Warzone devs would “love” 200 player matches but explain why it’s not possible ActivisionWarzone devs have teased that they would “love” to see the total player count on Caldera rise from 150 to 200 after CoD pro FaZe Swagg quizzed the Raven employees on their future plans for the battle royale. One of the common criticisms leveled at Warzone’s Caldera is that it contains too many wide-open spaces – particularly in the center. Players were far from in love with Verdansk by the end of its tenure, but the new Pacific map has even been labeled “boring” by some members of the community. Warzone already features eye-watering lobby sizes that cater up to 150 players, but upping the player count further could make those long stretches of empty space feel less drab. During Swagg’s March 31 stream, Raven Software devs joined the creator for a Q&A in which he asked if going from 150 to 200 players is on the cards, either as a permanent feature or as an LTM. While trying to avoid “PR jail,” Senior Warzone Creative Lead Josh Bridge hinted that he would like to it happen later down the line, that the concept has been “internally tested” by the team. “It is something that we’re always looking at for sure because we love the idea,” he explained.”Go crazy, how many people can we get in here? That’d be so dope.” However, “technical challenges” appear to be holding the team back from making the jump, mainly due to concerns on how it would impact performance on last-gen consoles. At the moment, it would require an audience split. Raven’s Senior Creative Director, Ted Timmins, also mentioned that the team is currently prioritizing new gameplay features, as they feel that this is the best way to keeps players continuously engaged. “It’s not always about the number of people either, it’s what’s happening in the maps,” he noted. “The success of Season 2 has really been about the toys we’ve put in, [like] Portable Decontamination Stations.” “We’re really moving away from tons of new LTMs and game modes, and really focusing on what core new stuff we can put into the game,” Timmins continued. “If feature A meets feature B then get this amazing clip that now goes across Twitter [and] Reddit, so that’s where really putting out energy.” All hope isn’t lost though, as the devs didn’t rule out the possibility of the change coming in the future. “We want a lot of this stuff that you’re talking about,” Timmins told Swagg. “When we look at the whole chapter ahead, we are definitely having these types of conversations about what we can do.” Only time will tell if the developers can figure out a way to open up Warzone matches to more players without hurting the performance on lest-gen consoles. For the time being, at least, the main focus is seemingly to make matches more varied by adding new and exciting features. Hopefully, the release of Warzone 2 will give the team a fresh start without as many technical limitations, and we’ll finally see lobbies crammed with 200 players.

  • Warzone devs want to up Time to Kill in drastic Season 4 change – Dexerto

Warzone devs want to up Time to Kill in drastic Season 4 change ActivisionRaven Software has outlined big plans for a drastic Time to Kill (TTK) change during Warzone Season 4, one that aims to offset the current meta and allow for more “skill expression.” With the arrival of Warzone’s Season 4 patch notes, all eyes were on the latest weapons changes, new additions to the map, and of course, the fresh limited-time event. However, the developers at Raven Software also teased something major in the works for a future update. Alongside an enormous list of weapon tweaks for the Season 4 launch, Raven laid the groundwork for a future TTK adjustment. This broad change is set to drastically impact Warzone on the whole, not just specific weapons. Here’s how the state of balance in Warzone is set to change in the next few Season 4 updates, including this week’s June 17 patch. “At a high level, Warzone is a game about engagements,” the devs outlined in their June 17 blog post. In order to increase Warzone’s skill-ceiling, it’s all about adding to “mechanical and strategic expression within engagements,” they explained. This relates not only to aim and gun skill, but to movement as well. “We want to enable more escapes from impossible situations, moments of finesse, epic outplays, and opportunities to flex exquisite marksmanship.” With the current power levels in Verdansk, these moments aren’t easy to come by. At least, they’re not as common as Raven would like. Therefore, drastic weapon changes are on the way to “bring the average TTK up by approximately 60-100 milliseconds. Most weapons in Warzone today currently fall between the 500-700ms range on average for clean chest shots. Obviously, kills are even faster with shots to the head as well. With this major TTK increase, weapons will take longer to kill and players will be able to survive longer than ever before. NEW: Raven Software says they will be making major changes to weapons in a future update, and also says the average TTK in Warzone will increase from 60 milliseconds to 100 milliseconds. pic.twitter.com/smzgWm1QJ3 — Call of Duty News (@charlieINTEL) June 17, 2021 On one hand, Raven wants this TTK increase to pave the way for more “skill expression” in Warzone. On the other, it also allows for a drastic change to the meta. Certain weapons that haven’t quite had their time in the spotlight, may soon have a “chance to shine.” There’s no telling exactly when this TTK adjustment will come into effect, but with Season 4 now underway, it’s only a matter of time.

  • Warzone devs unveil major playlist overhaul ahead of Season 1 launch – Dexerto

Warzone devs unveil major playlist overhaul ahead of Season 1 launch ActivisionOne of Warzone’s most criticized tendencies has now been addressed before MW3 Season 1 commences on December 6. As Call of Duty: Warzone prepares to launch its exciting new season, the developers have announced a significant playlist update that addresses a long-standing community request In the past, available squad sizes were frequently rotated, meaning some players were left without their preferred team configuration. It led to frustrated players calling out that the developers were “out of touch,” particularly after they removed duos and trios from the popular battle royale for a brief time. But now, with the introduction of Warzone Season 1 in Modern Warfare 3, it has been revealed that every squad size in the Standard Battle Royale Playlist will remain accessible for the entire season. Call of Duty: Warzone developers have announced that all squad sizes in the Battle Royale mode – Solo, Duos, Trios, and Quads – will be permanently available throughout the entire upcoming season. The major playlist change ensures that players can consistently enjoy and play with their preferred squad size without needing to worry about its rotating availability. That means players can team up in any team composition to celebrate the launch of the new Urzikstan map. For the first 48 hours, all game modes – Battle Royale, Resurgence, and Plunder – will be set in this new, expansive map. The game will also introduce the Urzikstan Resurgence mode, focusing on key locations within Urzikstan, such as Orlov Military Base, Popov Power and Zaravan Suburbs By ensuring the availability of all squad sizes throughout the season, Warzone now addresses one of the community’s persistent requests and gives players more consistency in their battle royale experience. • Warzone devs tease major Prestige system rework on the way soon – Dexerto

Warzone devs tease major Prestige system rework on the way soon ActivisionWarzone developers at Raven Software have confirmed that a new Prestige system revamp is currently in the pipeline, after Swagg outlined his biggest gripes with the current leveling structure. One of the most popular features since the early days of Call of Duty has been the Prestige system. Grinding through multiplayer levels and resetting your ranks to unlock the next rare emblem has long been one of the ultimate ways to flex. Though things changed in recent years as the franchise adopted a seasonal model. Players now have their progress reset with each new season, rather than having the option to hit max Prestige and remain there. Addressing the state of this once-beloved feature, Twitch star Swagg voiced his issues in a recent Q&A with two Warzone developers. It turns out, not only do they understand the criticism, but they’re already working on a big revamp. With the current Prestige system in Warzone, Swagg argued “it’s almost pointless to even really care. That’s one thing that’s really missed,” he continued, “just wanting to level up. There’s no reason to want to level up.” Responding to the comments, Warzone Creative Lead Josh Bridge said the feedback is “totally fair.” Raven attributes this recent decline in enthusiasm for the Prestige system to the “live model” structure. “We went for this notion of seasonal leveling,” he explained. “Now looking it at, on the plus [side], it doesn’t feel as intimidating for someone that’s been disengaged for a while at the start of a season, because we’re all at the same starting point. ” On the downside, however, Bridge admits that “the value of leveling kind of loses meaning,” as players are only focused on the season, rather than a bigger picture. Well aware of this feedback, the Warzone dev team is already working to improve the state of its Prestige system. “That’s something you’re going to see in the future,” Bridge alluded, “a revision is the best way to describe it. “We absolutely want to deliver on the value of what Prestige means and the rewards that you get with it, so that you’re not just purely watching numbers tick.” While there’s no telling how Prestiging may evolve in Warzone, if we even see these changes before Warzone 2 arrives, we now know for certain that it’s being looked at. Read More: Call of Duty League 2022 power rankings – “The whole progression and metagame is absolutely something we’re going after in a revised way,” Bridge concluded.

  • Warzone devs tease work on new “evolution” of the Battle Royale genre – Dexerto

Warzone devs tease work on new “evolution” of the Battle Royale genre ActivisionWhile Warzone 2 is in the pipeline, Activision’s many development teams currently appear to be scheming on other major projects as well, all in hopes of ‘evolving’ the Battle Royale genre. The Call of Duty franchise has had multiple stints in the Battle Royale genre. From Blackout to Warzone, devs have spent years working within the ‘last-person standing’ framework. With its immense success, don’t expect Activision to abandon this slice of the gaming industry anytime soon. Warzone 2 is in the works for a reported 2023 launch. But some new innovations could be right around the corner to push things in a new direction. Speaking with CoD veteran TeeP during a March 23 livestream, Warzone Creative Lead Josh Bridge suggested that multiple dev teams have already been toiling away for quite some time on something “exciting” to evolve the BR genre. “Looking to the future, Battle Royale is awesome, we love it, but I think all of us love the idea of exploring what else we can do with a large player count in a huge map,” Bridge said. So while the commitment is still there for the BR community, Warzone’s developers are also eyeing new concepts altogether. “What other sort of evolutions can we find there? That’s been pretty exciting for all the teams,” he added. Exactly what these new experiments may look like, remains unclear for now. Though earlier leaks may from industry insiders may have outlined exactly what Bridge was teasing. Rumblings of something brand new for CoD have existed since November 2021. Prominent leaker Tom Henderson claimed an Escape From Tarkov-style mode was in development at Infinity Ward. This report was backed up by other sources, outlining how the standalone mode features a large player count with playlists for multiple team sizes. No doubt this description ticks many of the similar boxes outlined by Bridge in regards to ‘evolving’ the Battle Royale genre. Further details have since indicated this particular mode, now labeled as ‘DMZ,’ has been in the works for multiple years already. “I can’t speak for everyone at [Infinity Ward], but those who I’ve spoken to are actually very positive about the game itself,” Henderson added in December. Obviously, it’s worth taking this connection with a grain of salt for now. Bridge could have been discussing a completely different project that’s yet to slip through the cracks. • Warzone devs tease HP buff for Season 2 Reloaded and players can now vote on it – Dexerto

Warzone devs tease HP buff for Season 2 Reloaded and players can now vote on it ActivisionHealth could be set for a big change in Warzone’s nearby Season 2 Reloaded patch as Raven Software is now letting players vote on a potential buff that’ll increase time-to-kill. In the two years since Warzone launched, individual player health has always remained a constant in standard battle royale modes. At 100 HP, the only way to improve your odds of survival has been to ‘plate up’ with additional Armor. The only time we’ve ever seen a change is through limited-time playlists and separate modes. Take Iron Trials, for instance, a more competitive-oriented mode designed for experienced players. This fan-favorite variant boosted health all the way from 100 HP to 250 HP. Throughout regular battle royale modes, however, it’s never been touched. That trend could be coming to an end though as a drastic health change may soon be on the way for players across all maps and modes in Warzone. As the Warzone Pacific Season 2 Reloaded patch draws near, developers at Raven Software have given players more power than usual. Rather than simply dropping a surprise health change, they’ve instead called for a vote on Twitter. “We want your feedback as we work towards building the ultimate battle royale experience,” they said. “Do you like the current health pool in BR, or would you like to see us increase it to match Vanguard Royale?” The first option is to keep battle royale health as it is with players at 100 HP. The second is to increase battle royale health slightly with a bump to 150 HP. At the time of writing, over 40,000 votes have already been cast with the buff option currently leading by a considerable margin. With over 70% of said votes in favor of a health increase, it appears almost guaranteed for the Season 2 Reloaded update. 📢 We want your feedback as we work towards building the ultimate Battle Royale experience in #Warzone Season Two Reloaded. Do you like the current Health pool in BR, or would you like to see us increase it to match Vanguard Royale? Have your say below! 🗳️ — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) March 16, 2022 Although it’s a smaller change in comparison to an Iron Trials-sized jump, this health buff would keep things consistent across both standard modes and Vanguard Royale playlists. With three additional Armor Plates equipped, your total maximum health could soon reach 300HP in regular Warzone. We’ll have to wait and see how the vote pans out, though it’s safe to expect the health change will arrive as part of the Season 2 Reloaded patch. Be sure to catch up on everything else included in the next major update right here.

  • Warzone devs tease long-awaited changes to Peak POI in Season 3 update – Dexerto

Warzone devs tease long-awaited changes to Peak POI in Season 3 update ActivisionPeak has been a divisive POI in Warzone since the jump to Caldera, though the mountain could finally be changing in the near future as Raven Software’s Creative Director has teased an upcoming change in Season 3. With Warzone Pacific Season 2 starting to wind down, attention is quickly shifting to the next major update. Season 3 is right around the corner and while no official details have been confirmed, devs have already begun to tease what we can expect. Four months since the switch from Verdansk to Caldera and much of the Pacific map has remained intact. While some have grown tired of this layout, others have put together intricate theories on why most POIs have gone unchanged. Things could finally be set to change in big ways over the coming weeks, however, as Senior Creative Director Ted Timmins just teased Peak may be in focus for a new revamp in the Season 3 patch. Chatting with the Baka Bros for almost an hour on April 5, Timmins covered a wide range of topics on the state of Warzone today. Many of these conversations happened to loop back to the upcoming Season 3 content drop. In terms of map changes, Peak appears to be locked in for an update of some kind. While specifics were kept under wraps, Raven is supposedly planning “some really cool stuff” for the POI in particular. “Honestly, I really like Peak,” Timmins said to kickstart the discussion. “I say this as a player, the reason I really like it is… I can’t really think of another experience in Warzone to date, where there is such a place that if you land there and take it, you can parachute anywhere on the map.” Though even with this praise, he admits Peak isn’t exactly perfect in its current form. As a result, the team has been investigating new ways to mix things up on the mountain in Season 3 and beyond. “You could argue, is Peak the problem, or is easy access to Peak the problem?” Timmins continued. “Those are the questions we’re asking ourselves internally at the moment. How do we make the gameplay of Caldera fit the map of Caldera? “I think Season 3, you’ll see the first real inroads into those kinds of discussions.” Could this mean a complete POI revamp? Will fan theories come true and see a volcano erupting on Caldera to drastically overhaul Peak? It’s anyone’s guess for now. Though one thing we can discern from these comments is that Peak will remain in Caldera in some capacity. We’ll have to wait and see exactly what the devs have planned for not just Peak, but Caldera as a whole in the Warzone Season 3 update. Just weeks after a major overhaul to Rebirth Island, the bigger BR map could now be set to follow. Rest assured, we’ll keep you up to speed with all the latest details as they emerge.

  • Warzone devs tease Caldera map changes finally coming in Season 2 update – Dexerto

Warzone devs tease Caldera map changes finally coming in Season 2 update ActivisionWarzone’s divisive Caldera map is finally set for an update in the Season 2 patch, with Raven Software teasing new POI changes on the way soon. Despite almost two years of waiting for a new full-sized map in Warzone, Verdansk’s replacement hasn’t quite live up to expectations. Since the jump to the Pacific era in Season 1, players have labeled Caldera as a “boring” stage while others have called it a much ‘easier’ map to master. With countless bugs tied to the map as well, it’s all led to the longest season in recent history. Warzone’s next major patch was delayed from its original date as a result, giving devs more time to “optimize” the experience. We now have an idea as to exactly what said optimizations might look like. Outside of general gameplay tweaks, Raven has confirmed that map changes are finally on the way to improve Caldera. Maybe the Map knows about a change coming to this area in Season 2? 😎 — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) January 25, 2022 Players have been spotting a few peculiar issues with Warzone’s minimap over the past week. In certain areas, entire buildings appear on the minimap without actually showing up in-game. It turns out there’s a reason for this. “Maybe the map knows about a change coming to this area in Season 2?” Raven teased on Twitter in response to another instance of the seemingly bugged HUD. Rather than distinct changes to the location, this new clip showed buildings pushed into slightly different locations on the minimap. This could be Raven’s way of shifting Caldera’s pace without dramatic additions. Given similar discrepancies appearing already, there’s a good chance multiple POIs will be changing in a similar way with Warzone’s Season 2 update. Beyond these minor tweaks, there’s no telling if Caldera will receive anything bigger. Perhaps new locations are on the way or maybe some current zones will be removed, but we’ll have to wait and see. Regardless, it’s clear the new Warzone map is changing, to an extent. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Season 2 details over the next few weeks.

  • Warzone devs suggest fix for “broken” C58 optic coming soon – Dexerto

Warzone devs suggest fix for “broken” C58 optic coming soon Activision/YouTube: JGODThe C58 has become an incredibly popular weapon in Warzone since the Season 4 Reloaded update, but it’s made even better by a certain sight that makes it far easier to control. Shortly after the update, Warzone expert JGOD revealed that the C58 was a great weapon, but the 4x Royal and Kross optic actually diminishes the recoil significantly. Since then, it’s become the meta weapon choice in Verdansk. You’ll see most players using it as their primary AR for long-range engagements and, when paired with a good SMG like the MAC-10 or MP5, you’re guaranteed to pack a punch. The 4x scope is clearly broken on the C58, such is the magnitude of the recoil difference, as you can see in this image from JGOD below. While a slight improvement would be expected, the change between the 3x and 4x scopes are significant enough to be causing some issues — but not for much longer, by the sounds of it. After seeing the above tweet from JGOD, Warzone developers Raven Software have clearly been figuring out the best course of action. They responded late on July 18 saying that they’re aware of the recoil differences and that the scope “will be addressed very soon.” We’re aware. This will be addressed very soon. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) July 18, 2021 The meta has shifted a fair bit throughout Season 4, and while the C58 4x is the current assault rifle of choice, there are a number of viable loadouts to run in Warzone. Whether this means the C58 completely falls out of the meta remains to be seen, but even with just the standard 3x Axial Arms scope that is applied to most ARs, it’s still a decent gun. It just might not be the number one choice anymore.

  • Warzone devs suggest Champion of Caldera LTM could return with a big twist – Dexerto

Warzone devs suggest Champion of Caldera LTM could return with a big twist ActivisionWarzone’s developers are usually fairly tight-lipped when discussing the future of the game, but in a Season 4 preview event they opened up about wanting to try new versions of the unexpectedly popular Champion of Caldera Limited Time Mode. Champion of Caldera was one of Warzone’s most high-octane game modes of all time. Featuring an increased lobby size, an ever-closing safe zone, and guaranteed loadouts for each player that spawns in, it brought some fresh air to land of Caldera. Following up the gigantic Operation Monarch LTM, there was potential for the mode to get overshadowed by Kong and Godzilla, but after a positive reception, they’re considering opening up a whole new world of possibilities with the no-brakes playlist. Champion of Caldera could return to Warzone with big twist As reported by Warzone YouTuber Immortal, it’s possible that CoC will pivot away from being a lone-wolf experience when it returns. “They said in the future they could potentially be looking at doing Champion of Caldera in modes outside of solos,” the content creator said. “So Champions of Caldera, for Duos, Trios, and Quads, where we have that same ruleset.” A change of that size would take an already chaotic mode to the next level. 150 players in one lobby is a lot to handle for even the most seasoned of battle royale players, but adding coordinated teams to the mix could change the dynamic entirely. Raven wasn’t ready to say for sure that this is assuredly going to happen, but it’s certainly something they’re discussing after the first one went over so well with the fans.

  • Warzone devs stage walkout 2 days before new Pacific map launches – Dexerto

Warzone devs stage walkout 2 days before new Pacific map launches Activision / PexelsCall of Duty: Warzone’s new Pacific, Caldera map launches on December 8. And on December 6, the majority of Quality Assurance testers are walking out in protest after a set of QA layoffs began at Raven Software. The Friday before Pacific’s release, it was reported that a number of QA testers had been suddenly fired — after months of promised raises. These layoffs happened at Raven Software, the principal studio tasked with Warzone, and were exposed by a community manager working with the developers. Now, after a weekend examining the situation, it appears that the rest of the QA team will collectively protest the layoffs. According to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, the majority of Raven’s 40 QA testers “are walking off the job” until their peers are re-hired. This news arose on December 6, a particularly turbulent time to lose quality testers given Pacific’s launch on December 8. Warzone devs walk out ahead of Pacific launch Filed to Bloomberg Terminal: Most of a team of around 40 QA testers at Raven Software, which works on Call of Duty Warzone, are walking off the job to protest a sudden layoff that began on Friday. They say they’ll be walking out until the layoff is reversed. Story shortly — Jason Schreier (@jasonschreier) December 6, 2021 As tweeted by Schreier, the walkout is expected to take place on Monday, December 6 and remain in effect until the fired QA testers are given their jobs back. In the original discussion of the layoffs, the community manager revealed that the fired testers had been asked to relocate to Madison, Wisconsin and had been promised, for months, that they were in line for a “pay restructure to increase their wages.” While many are concerned that this walkout may impact the (now potentially un-assured) quality of Warzone Pacific, Activision have responded by explaining the extent of the layoffs. Activision respond to Warzone devs’ protest Activision Statement on Raven walkout: We are converting approximately 500 temporary workers to full-time employees in the coming months. Unfortunately, as part of this change, we also have notified 20 temporary workers across studios that their contracts would not be extended. — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) December 6, 2021 An Activision spokesperson, in response to the situation, explained that the company “is growing its overall investment in its development and operations resources.” As such, they have opted to ‘convert approximately 500 temporary workers to full-time employees in the coming months.’ As part of that restructure, ‘20 temporary workers across studios’ are not having their contracts renewed. It’s unclear how many of these temps are being laid off from Warzone’s principal studio in particular, but Raven Software’s employees have been the most vocal in response. With the majority of QA testers protesting right before Pacific’s pivotal launch, Activision have yet to confirm or deny if they will meet the re-hiring demands.

  • Warzone devs silently nerf non-Vanguard guns with controversial bloom feature – Dexerto

Warzone devs silently nerf non-Vanguard guns with controversial bloom feature ActivisionCall of Duty: Warzone fans were disappointed to discover a secret change to the game’s weapon balancing, as TrueGameData revealed that non-Vanguard guns, like Black Ops Cold War’s Stoner, have been nerfed by bullet bloom. When Vanguard launched in early-December, Warzone players were as excited as can be to check out new guns on a new map in the Pacific. As they began dropping into Caldera, though, they learned that a troubling mechanic had been added to the game. Essentially, Vanguard guns had “bloom,” which is a classic shooting mechanic, but one that was new to CoD. Different guns and attachments could affect it, but basically – bloom made it so that your gun had bullet spread and might not always hit where your crosshair aimed. Warzone streamers were delighted about the decision to remove bloom from the battle royale in mid-December. Now, they’re finding out that it has instead secretly been added to some non-Vanguard guns. Warzone silently adds bloom to Black Ops Cold War weapons (For mobile users, segment begins at 5:11) As TrueGameData explains, some of BOCW’s guns have somehow been given “ADS spread” (or “bloom”) in Warzone. This is surprising, as those guns don’t natively have the feature in their original game and have never had it in Warzone before. According to his tests, the two weapons most impacted by this change are the Stoner 63 and MG82. Looking at the Stoner in particular, bullets appear to now land well apart from the crosshair placement – a departure from the gun’s former accuracy. TGD eased concerns by confirming that only the aforementioned two BOCW weapons seem to be impacted by the new bloom. Still, the finding is troubling. While he tested nearly all BOCW and Vanguard weapons, he was only able to test six Modern Warfare weapons. With most players playing Vanguard-only modes, this isn’t necessarily a problem right now, but the implications have worried a number of players. In a number of Twitter replies, people are confused by the decision to silently change older guns’ mechanics. While some believe it’s simply a “bug,” others have speculated that this is a “deliberate move” to make people buy Vanguard blueprints instead.

  • Warzone devs shut down anti-cheat concerns after “pre-release” RICOCHET leak – Dexerto

Warzone devs shut down anti-cheat concerns after “pre-release” RICOCHET leak Activision / PexelsCall of Duty: Warzone’s security team have quieted concerns after the community discovered a RICOCHET Anti-Cheat leak. The devs have explained that it’s actually a “pre-release” leaked build that hackers are toying with already. Ever since Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019 and Warzone, CoD has had a serious hacking problem. With more PC players than ever, both the professional multiplayer and Warzone scenes have seen cheaters aplenty. So it was understandably major news when Activision revealed their upcoming, highly anticipated RICOCHET Anti-Cheat. And, also understandably, it was major news when people found out hackers were reversing the leaked kernel-level driver within a day. But CoD’s developers don’t seem too worried about Vanguard and Warzone’s security system. In fact, they’ve taken to Twitter to calm the concerns. Leaked RICOCHET Anti-Cheat was only a “pre-release” build Update from #TeamRicochet: ▶️ RICOCHET Anti-Cheat™ is in controlled live testing. Before putting it on your PC, we’re testing the hell out of it ▶️ Testing includes providing a pre-release version of the driver to select 3rd parties ▶️ Readying server-side upgrades for launch— Call of Duty (@CallofDuty) October 15, 2021 In a tweet shared by the official CoD account, Team Ricochet indirectly responded to concerns of the leak. The unit explained that the anti-cheat is currently in live testing, which includes a “pre-release version” being sent to third parties. As such, it has been inferred that the leaked kernel-level driver wasn’t by an Activision mole — but instead by one such third party. If that’s the case, then the build currently being reversed by hackers isn’t the live version. But still, some people aren’t fully convinced by this news. Warzone players still concerned about anti-cheat leak The version was signed 2 weeks ago, sure it’s an early build, but that doesn’t change because the obfuscator you use for your kernel driver is terrible? Cheat devs can quickly destroy it within hours. I hope the obfuscator you use on release is better than what’s shown. https://t.co/U4t19SpW4j — Anti-Cheat Police Department 🕵️ (@AntiCheatPD) October 15, 2021 While the RICOCHET devs claimed everything “all good,” community consensus hasn’t been unanimous. Popular security system account, Anti-Cheat Police Department, explained that this pre-release build doesn’t lend confidence to the live version. Nonetheless, people generally seem happy to know that the battle against hackers wasn’t lost in one day. As someone replied to our tweet about the CoD response, “it’s never chalked.” Vanguard releases on November 5 and Warzone integration should happen sometime afterward. Now we just have to wait and see if any further developments crop up in the meantime.

  • Warzone devs revert UAV prices after 1-day “experimentation” – Dexerto

Warzone devs revert UAV prices after 1-day “experimentation” ActivisionCall of Duty: Warzone’s developers have reverted the UAV price increase in Vanguard Royale after just one day. In an update, they explained that this was part of their “short-term experimentation” process. When you play Warzone, you are not just a soldier, a teammate, or a competitor. You are apparently also a guinea pig, in the effort to test things out and create a better game for everyone. While we already knew that the developers experimented with player reaction to modes like Iron Trials and weekly playlist tweaks, it seems they’re now trying out smaller alterations as well. To start the Pacific integration, Raven Software upped UAV prices to $6,000. In December 2021’s holiday event, they tested an increase to $12,000. Now, they’ve gone ahead and tested an increase to $9,000 for Vanguard Royale – and reverted it after just one day. Warzone devs revert UAV price increase after 1-day experiment 🛠️ Live today! The arrival of Rebirth Iron Trials, adjustments to Vanguard Royale, and bug fixes! ⏲️ ETA: 10am PT The Season Two Patch Notes have been amended (see Mar 3): https://t.co/jL7RTPlDF5 pic.twitter.com/M3jVszGRni — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) March 3, 2022 In the March 2 update, Raven said they were upping UAV costs to $9,000 as a “compromise where UAVs will remain accessible, but less inclined to be so readily exploitable.” On March 3, they quickly pivoted from that decision and reverted the price to $6,000. Explaining why, the devs said they intend “to monitor match pacing closer to the original design.” Further, the team clarified that “providing players with a fun and consistent long-term experience can sometimes take a little bit of short-term experimentation.” As such, the one-day price bump was simply a way to gauge sentiment. It seems that the Warzone devs are intent on ironing out the game’s pacing for the future. Players should therefore expect spontaneous adjustments like this UAV price movement, especially in the non-default playlists. With the game’s cash economy also being toyed with, a lot of tweaks are on the table. The devs’ communications are emphasizing one thing, though: these are not random adjustments, but all serve an experimental purpose.

  • Warzone devs revert Rebirth Island changes ahead of Season 4 and Fortune’s Keep – Dexerto

Warzone devs revert Rebirth Island changes ahead of Season 4 and Fortune’s Keep ActivisionShortly after introducing the Exfiltration playlist to Rebirth Island, Warzone developers Raven Software reverted changes made to the map after mass backlash from players. To lead in to Season 4 and the introduction of the new Fortune’s Keep map, Warzone added the Exfiltration Limited Time Mode to Rebirth Island, replacing the regular modes so players could take part in the LTM and get ready for Fortune’s Keep. This became a huge issue, however, as Rebirth’s legion of fans hounded the devs for removing their standard playlists, especially as the Island will be seen far less after Fortune’s Keep is introduced. Rebirth Island has become insanely popular in recent months, especially since the shift from Verdansk to Caldera, which left a number of players split over which map they should spend their time traversing. That’s why it caused such a storm when they removed the regular modes from Rebirth and made it Exfiltration only on June 20, the week of the Season 4 update. ‘Rebirth’ started to trend on Twitter, and fans were furiously tweeting at the Warzone and Call of Duty accounts to revert the changes made. Before long, they listened and Raven Software changed their plans, bringing back their “beloved Rebirth” with all modes available before Fortune’s Keep arrives. We’ve heard you want to end Season Three with our beloved Rebirth. We’re updating the Playlist to include all Rebirth Resurgence squad sizes – replacing Caldera Resurgence – until Season Four arrives at 9AM PST on 6/22. This is NOW LIVE! We appreciate your continued feedback!🥰 — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) June 20, 2022 Fortune’s Keep is going to be slightly bigger than Rebirth Island and, for the first week after it launches, will be on a daily rotation with the map. Warzone Season 4 launches on Wednesday, June 22, and is set to bring a number of significant changes to the game. Whether Fortune’s Keep proves to be as popular as Rebirth Island, though, remains to be seen.

  • First look at two new Warzone Gulags in Black Ops Cold War Season 1 – Dexerto

First look at two new Warzone Gulags in Black Ops Cold War Season 1 Activision / TreyarchBlack Ops Cold War developers Treyarch have finally revealed all the details on Warzone Season 1, including all the details on the new Gulag maps that will be coming to Rebirth Island and Verdansk. Warzone’s Season 1 update is absolutely brimming with loads of exciting new content for both Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. There’s a new battle royale map Rebirth Island, new ‘Resurgence’ game mode, and a host of new maps for BOCW. However, many Warzone fans will be pleased to hear that there are plenty of exciting changes happening to Activision’s hit BR. One of the major changes is the integration of the new Gulags. Both Verdansk and Rebirth Island will have their own unique Gulag maps, giving players fresh environments to flex their might in bloody 1v1 brawls. Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the December 16 update. New Verdansk Gulag When the Black Ops Cold War integration content update hits Warzone, players will finally be saying goodbye to Verdansk’s original Gulag. Instead, a new arena will be used for the game’s tense 1v1’s. The design is a replica of the original Nuketown map layout, but both the houses and backyard have been barricaded off. Instead, players will need to carefully navigate their way to the center of the map to fight it out around the parked bus and faux truck. Read More: What’s new in Warzone Season 1? – For those that enjoy riskier plays, there’s the option to climb atop one of the house’s awnings. Doing this will give you a fantastic sightline of the Gulag, enabling players to beam those that dare to rush towards the central flag. However, these positions can leave you exposed, so it’s better suited for those with a quick aim. New Rebirth Island Gulag Obviously, Verdansnk isn’t the only map that getting a new Gulag. Rebirth Island is known for its grim history, especially since inmates were experimented on as part of Perseus’ plot to turn the tide of the Cold War. As a result, players are dragged into Prison Block and forced to fight it out in the testing chamber. The new 1v1 experience sees both inmates spawn at the end of one of two hallways that run parallel to the center room. While the pathways enable you to quickly meet your foe, they do have a metal detector that will go off whenever an Operator passes through it. This will add another layer to your gameplan. For example, do you choose to purposely set off the alarm and wait for your victim to appear, or do you quietly wait in the shadows and deliver a deadly blow from afar? So there you have it, everything we know about the two new Gulags coming to Warzone in Season 1.

  • Warzone devs reveal sniper buff exclusive to Iron Trials ’84 – Dexerto

Warzone devs reveal sniper buff exclusive to Iron Trials ’84 ActivisionWarzone developers Raven Software have revealed that Sniper Rifles have been given a bit of a buff in-game, however, the change is exclusive to the new Iron Trials ’84 mode. With Season 5 almost coming to a close, Warzone’s Season 5 Reloaded update has finally dropped, bringing some brand new content to the popular battle royale. That includes the brand-new Iron Trials ’84 mode which has been billed as “the toughest Battle Royale mode to ever come to Verdansk,” and it’s already proven pretty popular with players. The new mode has a slower TTK (time-to-kill), loadout drops are rarer than before, and is an all-around nice change of pace for players. There’s even a sniper buff in the mode too. Warzone’s TTK has always been a bone of contention for players with constant community arguments over it being too fast for some but far too slow for others. With Iron Trials ’84 proving a nice of change, one player – Redditor bob1689321 – suggested that snipers may have received a nerf that made the mode “fun.” However, that isn’t the case. Raven stepped in to clear things up, noting that there has actually been a buff to snipers given the increased health in the mode. “The damage values for Snipers are the same with the exception of headshots which now deal 300 damage,” they said. “This is for any scenario above 30 meters. Under 30 meters, any Sniper that could one-shot headshot in core BR can still do so.” Comment byu/bob1689321 from discussion inCODWarzone While some players praised the change and suggested Iron Trials should be the go-to setup for the normal battle royale mode, others suggested that the headshot damage could be toned down just a touch. Some suggested that further changes, exclusive to the mode, should also be made – mainly down the route of weapon recoil – in a bid to further separate the top tier players from the rest. But, we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

  • Warzone devs reveal plan to increase TTK for all guns in future updates – Dexerto

Warzone devs reveal plan to increase TTK for all guns in future updates ActivisionRaven Software are looking to increase the TTK (Time to Kill) in Warzone across every weapon in a bid to raise the skill ceiling of the battle royale. Just like every other multiplayer shooter, Raven Software walk a difficult line when it comes to weapon balancing and the overall time to kill. The latter, more often referred to as TTK, has always been a sore point with Call of Duty players and is debated on with each new release. It’s also been an issue in Warzone, given how strong some weapons have been – especially when new ones are added. However, the devs are looking at ways to tweak the TTK moving forward, especially as they change a whole host of weapons. Alongside the May 7 update, which brought changes to the AMAX, PPSH, Street Sweeper, and a whole bunch of attachments, Raven gave players an insight into what they’re looking at tweaking next. The devs noted that they’ll be looking at buffs for some of the Modern Warfare weapons, but on top of that, the time to kill should be changing in the future as they look to raise the skill ceiling in-game with the further weapon tweaks. “We feel we are close to a ‘balance homeostasis’ where most options are at the very least viable,” the devs said about the current arsenal of weapons. “Which leaves us to address Time to Kill. The following balance changes are part of our ongoing efforts to raise TTK or at least the individual skill required to reach extreme ones. We ask that you consider these changes not as targeted attacks, but rather as part of a larger initiative to raise the skill ceiling.” Raising the TTK will delight players who play at the higher skill levels, because they’re less likely to get cheese’d by an overpowered weapon. However, it remains to be seen as to how long it’ll take Raven to get things right. It’s a difficult one to balance and get ironed out and should take some time.

  • Warzone devs respond to XP bug making it impossible to rank up weapons – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond to XP bug making it impossible to rank up weapons Activision/TreyarchWarzone developers have finally responded to an issue that is causing certain weapons to not gain XP in Season 3. While the Warzone Season 3 update introduced new guns, balance changes, and modes – a number of players have reported problems with leveling up certain Vanguard weapons. This issue is obviously incredibly frustrating, particularly when the best Warzone loadouts require high-level attachments. So far, a total of four guns have been impacted by this bug, with the KG M40 and NZ-41 being among them. However, the developers have now finally responded to this problem, reassuring players that the weapon XP issue is being looked into. • Warzone devs respond to strange glitch causing players to get stuck – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond to strange glitch causing players to get stuck ActivisionA Warzone developer has acknowledged and responded to a bizarre bug in the battle royale title that is causing players to literally get stuck. While Warzone has been wildly popular with its playerbase since launching in March, it’s still fallen prone to some game-breaking or simply downright strange bugs. With frustrated players unable to respawn their teammates and a bizarre bug that causes the parachute to send players flying upwards, it’s no surprise that they’ve committed to a number of bug fixes heading into Season 4. While the upcoming Season 4 looks set to address a large number of issues in both Modern Warfare and Warzone, they had been announced ahead of time, and it wasn’t clear what would happen here, with players literally getting stuck. This issue, though, didn’t seem to have any fix in sight until Infinity Ward’s co-design director of multiplayer, Joe Cecot, acknowledged it on June 5. As you can see in the below clips, when we say stuck, we literally mean stuck. While attempting to traverse Verdansk, popular YouTuber TheXclusiveAce literally jumped off of some rocks and immediately got stuck in the ground. Despite his best efforts, XclusiveAce was unable to move from the spot where he got stuck, eventually just finding himself stuck in the gas and accepting his fate. https://twitter.com/JoeCecot/status/1268784995780329472?s=20 In response, Cecot simply thanked Ace and confirmed that it had been shared with the team. It’s worth noting that this isn’t a one-time bug. On May 11, around three weeks prior to Cecot’s response here, MacS7n experienced the same issue, having to use a killstreak on himself just to get away. https://twitter.com/MacS7n/status/1259969849595396100?s=20 This proves that it’s not a particular spot on the map, and it’s not immediately noticeable whether there’s anything in particular actually causing this to happen. That said, it seems Infinity Ward are on top of it, and when Season 4 officially drops this bug should no longer be occurring. Unfortunately, we still don’t have an exact date on Season 4’s launch date following a delay on June 1.

  • Warzone devs respond to rumor about “sharks and monkeys” on new map – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond to rumor about “sharks and monkeys” on new map Activision / Pexels, MileCall of Duty: Warzone players are excited for the new map coming with Vanguard. But some of the rumors, including one bizarre report of interactive animals on the map, have gotten so out of hand that the devs are stepping in. Call of Duty’s developers don’t often get involved with leaks and rumors, but it seems that enough is enough. Numerous things have been thrown around social media regarding Vanguard, the franchise’s 2021 title, and its integration with Warzone. One such talking point has caught the developers’ eyes: a rumor about animals you can fight in the Vanguard map. A post on Twitter (which didn’t have any concrete sources, to be fair) gained a fair amount of traction, suggesting that you could fight animals like “sharks and monkeys” for loot in the new map. Then Raven Software responded… succinctly. The rumor stated that Warzone’s upcoming map would be “Pacific-themed” and that there would be animals like sharks and monkeys that “will drop loot once killed.” Past that, the account explained that “some animals will be predatory in nature (sharks), while others will be more passive.” Seeing an account with over 400,000 followers spread this kind of information, Raven stepped in with a short and sweet “lmao.” Within moments, they had ratio’d the original tweet with almost double the likes and effectively shut the rumor down. Some birds already exist in Warzone and others, like ravens and Komodo dragons, also exist but solely as finishing moves. The idea of bringing possibly predatory animals to the game is an intriguing one, which had players pretty divided. While some mentioned how this would be a bizarre choice in regards to animal rights (imagine PETA’s inbox after people killed passive animals for loot), others focused on the predators. One user noted how annoying it would be to barely survive a gunfight only to get finished off by a random bear. Ultimately, it seems like this “unconfirmed rumor” might not hold much weight. While the devs haven’t outright shut it down by saying “no,” laughing at it makes people feel like the leak is indeed laughable and won’t come true. Guess we’ll have to wait until November to find out.

  • Warzone devs respond to Rebirth Island exploit that lets players shoot from underneath the map – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond to Rebirth Island exploit that lets players shoot from underneath the map Reddit, u/ProvoloneStallone / ActivisionCall of Duty: Warzone’s developers have finally let fans know that they are aware of the map clipping exploit on Rebirth Island and are working to fix it. When Treyarch’s Black Ops Cold War released, Infinity Ward gave up management of Modern Warfare’s battle royale, Warzone. Instead, Raven Software were tasked with being the intermediary developers who would manage the game’s future and implement content from both multiplayer titles. One such implementation was the addition of Rebirth Island, a revamped iteration of Alcatraz from Black Ops 4’s battle royale, Blackout. A smaller map, fewer teams (except for the notorious “Extreme Resurgence” version) and more chaos — Rebirth was an exciting inclusion that tested Treyarch’s map creation on Infinity Ward’s engine. Quickly, though, some of Warzone’s older issues began cropping up on Rebirth Island as well (alongside some newer, unexpected ones). Most notably, Raven Software have singled out the elephant in (or, more appropriately, under) the room by explaining that they are working to fix a map clipping glitch. We’re aware of the map clipping exploit on Rebirth Island. We’ll post further updates on our Trello board.https://t.co/GsZ3KrSTvP#Warzone — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) March 12, 2021 Linking to their official Trello board, where the exploit is marked as “investigating,” the developers key in on this issue and assure players that a resolution is being moved toward. This is jolly news, as the exploit is an unbearable one to experience. In essence, this exploit allows players to ‘clip’ underneath the map. Similar to an issue that popped up in Prison and other Verdansk locations, cheaters are then able to hang out below the playable map — completely invisible to other, normal players. From that vantage point, these exploiters can see everything going on above them, but they can also loot from whatever is above them. Most notoriously, they can also easily shoot normal players who walk around them, while being impossible to see or get shot themselves. As seen in a clip shared by ‘ProvoloneStallone’ on Reddit, unsuspecting victims can have their lives ruthlessly wrenched away from them on Rebirth Island without once seeing their assailants. Provolone walked around confusedly, only getting a glimpse of the enemy in the Kill Cam. In said Kill Cam, it’s obvious that the shooter is using the exploit and glitched beneath the map, where their entire screen looks like abstract art. Of all the ways to be killed, this has to be one of the most frustrating, so players will be happy to know it is being worked on — and this page will be updated when more information becomes available.

  • Warzone devs respond to Rebirth Island concerns over possible map changes – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond to Rebirth Island concerns over possible map changes Raven SoftwareWarzone devs Raven Software have cleared up lingering concerns from fans in regards to the reintegration of Rebirth Island, a beloved BR map. Warzone Season 3 is shaping up to be a big step in the right direction for Call of Duty fans. Players eagerly await the return of one of the franchise’s most beloved maps in Rebirth Island. In the lead-up to the big content drop, the Warzone dev team dropped a new trailer, teasing their community and offering up some new insight into what everyone can expect from Warzone Season 3. While reception to the trailer and new details has been mainly positive, one source of concern for Warzone players is the changes that are being made to Rebirth with its reintegration into the game. Visual differences alone had many fearing POI adjustments, map reworks, and the like. As a result, Raven Software, the dev team behind Warzone, issued a notice to their fans on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to clear up any concerns or confusion players may have regarding the reintroduction of Rebirth Island. “At the launch of Season 3, we’re reintroducing Rebirth Island to Warzone. While a number of gameplay updates and visual polish have been made, this version of Rebirth Island stays true to the original experience our players know and love.” This update has been received positively by fans, many appreciating the communication from the devs as well as clearing up community concerns. One X user commented, “Okay fair enough you won me over with this. Appreciate the explanation.” Another added, “This is nice, we like this. This is very good communication. Fast and simple.” Warzone Season 3 is scheduled to go live on April 3, 2024 and with it, so too is Rebirth Island.

  • Warzone devs respond to Massive Resurgence feedback but fans still aren’t happy – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond to Massive Resurgence feedback but fans still aren’t happy ActivisionInfinity Ward’s explanation for decreasing Warzone Massive Resurgence’s player count to 100 from 150 fell on deaf ears. Sledgehammer Games is at the helm for Modern Warfare 3, and community members applauded the devs for their transparency during the open beta. After just one day of testing, the devs rolled out an update to nerf Battle Rage amid a wave of outrage. And then, the devs released a major update ahead of the beta’s second weekend that addressed community concerns over “inconsistent” enemy visibility, “random” spawns, and a “horrible” delay after sliding. Community members drew comparisons between how Sledgehammer Games and Infinity Ward handled community feedback. Players specifically pointed out how Infinity Ward refused to revert the mini-map even after players complained about the change during the MW2 beta. Infinity Ward’s refusal to lean on community sentiment frustrated the user base. And now, even when the MW2 devs made an attempt to listen to feedback, it ended up backfiring. Warzone Massive Resurgence On October 18, the Warzone devs controversially decreased Warzone’s Massive Resurgence player count from 150 to 100. Community members slammed the decision and pleaded for the change to be reverted. Instead, Infinity Ward responded one day later: “We received feedback that, with all of The Haunting activities in the mix, Massive Resurgence felt a bit too chaotic. We temporarily reduced the Player count from 150 to 100 to alleviate this. This lower Player count retains the welcome excitement of Massive Resurgence but provides a bit more breathing room for Players to experience all The Haunting has to offer. Please note that this adjustment will only remain active through The Haunting and will return to the normal Player count once the event concludes. Happy hunting!” It’s important to note that the decreased player count is only temporary and will be reverted once the Haunting event ends. Despite that, community members blasted the devs for just starting to listen to feedback now and for still getting it wrong. ModernWarzone responded: “So now you’re listening to feedback? Didn’t see people complaining about it being too chaotic anywhere I looked, just complaints that people can 3rd party the pharaoh and the Butcher.” Meanwhile, CharlieIntel sarcastically commented: “Listening to feedback? Really?” And Warzone content creator IceManIsaac added: “I really appreciate the transparency (even if it’s after the fact), but if players wanted less chaos, they could queue into regular BR Duos/Quads. It still has all the in-game events and only 100 players.” This comes after Raven Software permanently decreased Warzone’s player count from 150 to 100 on Al Mazrah. IceManIsaac urged the devs to leave MW3’s battle royale map at 150 players, or it will be a “snooze fest.” For more, make sure to check out the rest of our Warzone coverage.

  • Warzone devs respond to infinite loading screen glitch – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond to infinite loading screen glitch ActivisionModern Warfare developer Joe Cecot has responded to the infuriating Warzone infinite loading screen glitch, nothing that it is a “complex” issue for the team to figure out. Though Warzone has proven to be incredibly popular with Call of Duty fans, a number of problems have plagued the battle royale. Players have found glitches with staying alive for longer than intended in the gas, being unable to buy teammates back, and other issues. However, there might no more annoying problem than the infinite loading screen glitch. As the name suggests, players are greeted by a loading screen that never goes away. You can sometimes hear gunfire and see the match is loading countdown, but you don’t end up going anywhere. While some players have found workarounds, there hasn’t been a fix that rectifies the problem for everyone. Fans who have found their games constantly disrupted by the bug have put it to the developers, hoping for a fix. While no sort of patch seems to be coming anytime soon, Joe Cecot has revealed that Infinity Ward is working on it. “We are looking at this but it’s turning out to be a very complex issue,” the Co-Design Director tweeted in reply to one disgruntled Twitter user, also offering up an apology. “Sorry for the inconvenience.” https://twitter.com/JoeCecot/status/1273790544397758465 With the problem proving to be “complex,” according to the developer, it could be the case that Infinity ward is unable to fix it for a little while yet – never mind having it fixed in time for their next set of updates. That would, undoubtedly, be an absolutely nightmarish situation the horde of fans who are still running into the bug. While there are no details on what is making the issue so “complex,” Infinity Ward have routinely found fixes, so we’ll just have to wait and see as to whether or not they can fix it soon.

  • Warzone devs respond to in-game voice chat issues – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond to in-game voice chat issues ActivisionThe Call of Duty: Warzone developers have responded to a new issue that has prevented players in cross-platform lobbies from using game chat – either to communicate with teammates or to trash talk opposing players. Even since Warzone launched back in March, the developers have the battle royale have kept on top of things with all-new content, regular bug fixes, and new game modes that have kept players coming back for more. Though, following Modern Warfare’s April 28 update, which added the Most Wanted bounty and Armor Satchel to Warzone, an all-new communication issue had begun rearing its head, making it impossible for players who use the cross-platform function to use game chat with their teammates. This has obviously caused plenty of problems for Warzone fans who don’t use outside services like TeamSpeak, Discord, or Skype to communicate with teammates and friends. So, they’ve had to make their complaints known to the developers – and it appears as if they’ve taken the feedback on board. As of writing on May 1, players have noted that on the Warzone Trello board – where upcoming patches and updates can be found – a fix for the game chat issue has been noted and is seemingly already in the works. Obviously, how long it takes to get a fix up, running, and implemented in-game remains to be seen – as does whether they would have to throw out a full-blown update or if it comes as part of a hotfix. Players have been airing their concerns about other problems that they would like to see fixed in Warzone, as well. These stem from things like having assault rifles in the Gulag and players being invincible if they’re brought back from a buy station in the final circle. These will have to be addressed by the developers at some point in the future, but we don’t have any update on them yet.

  • Warzone devs respond to glitch that lets players use Uzis in the Gulag – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond to glitch that lets players use Uzis in the Gulag ActivisionThe Gulag is supposed to be Call of Duty: Warzone’s great equalizer, with both duelists equipped with the same health, gun, and equipment. A weird glitch has been disrupting that balance, but a fix is on the way. They say not to bring a knife to a gunfight. That’s reasonable advice. What they don’t say is not to bring a shotgun to a shotgun fight, because you might just find an Uzi instead. When you die in Warzone, you head to one of the map’s three underground Gulags for a one-on-one duel with matching weaponry. But, of the game’s wide variety of guns, you’ll only be spawned with one of two types: shotgun or pistol. Unfortunately, a glitch has been popping up over the past few weeks in which players are able to find automatic guns on the floor of the Gulag — providing an instantaneous, unfair advantage. In the most recent example, Redditor ‘pizza-boys’ jumps into his dungeon battle and is surprised to find two typically ineligible guns: a sniper and an SMG. He quickly opts for the SMG, an Uzi in this instance, and shreds his unlucky foe. There’s a reason that automatic weapons are preferred for most engagements in CoD, as they are versatile and have forgiving firing rates. Getting blessed with one in the Gulag is practically a cheat code and something Infinity Ward has been working to figure out and address. It appears that this glitch is the result of a player dying above and having their weapons glitch downward, falling into the lap of a duelist who is observant enough to notice them waiting on the ground. To add proof to this assumption, another Redditor, ‘ConspiracyKoala,’ found a player’s custom Kilo 141 assault rifle and MP7 after rotating to his (frankly unaware) opponent’s side of the map. You can’t obtain custom guns in Warzone without accessing your loadout, so this proves that the guns must have come from a player who died just above. As it stands, IW has noted this glitch on their Trello board and the fix is “in progress.” In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled in case Lady Luck decides to bestow an automatic weapon upon you.

  • Warzone devs respond to game-breaking respawn glitch – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond to game-breaking respawn glitch ActivisionA game-breaking respawn glitch has been plaguing Warzone players attempting to revive their teammates, but now a lead dev at Infinity Ward has commented on the issue. It’s a bug you might have encountered at some point, and is genuinely a nightmare, especially when in tense situations. You take $4500, you head to the buy station to revive your fallen teammate, but you get nothing. Instead, it tells you your teammate is already in action on the battlefield. It’s a bug that we’ve seen cost players matches numerous times, but there never seemed to be any real reason behind it, nor a solution to fixing the problem. Now, though, Infinity Ward’s Co-Design Director of Multiplayer, Joe Cecot, has caught wind of the bug that is gradually affecting more and more people, and responded to the issue at hand. On May 9, Twitter user Kris Luck reported the glitch to Cecot, who responded simply saying that they “haven’t seen this” but that he would report it to whoever needs to know. Not long after, Cecot responded once again, showing that they were quickly looking to sort the issue. “Fix coming in next update” he told Kris, though it’s not completely clear when said update will go live in Warzone and Modern Warfare. https://twitter.com/JoeCecot/status/1259236176122097664 This isn’t the first major glitch players have encountered in Warzone, of course, but it might be one of the most annoying, especially given how influential it is on the outcome of the match. It’s not clear where this bug has come from, but it’s fair to say that if you do get hit by it, don’t stand around at the buy station repeatedly trying, because it will inevitably result in your demise as enemies find you standing there hopelessly. Regardless, it appears a fix is well on its way, so it shouldn’t be an issue for too much longer – but be wary anyway, and make sure your teammates are caught up on our top Gulag tips to make sure they’re not kicked out of Verdansk too early.

  • Warzone devs respond to game-breaking “Corrupted Loadout Data” issue – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond to game-breaking “Corrupted Loadout Data” issue ActivisionWarzone devs at Raven Software have responded to an emergent “Corrupted Loadout Data” issue in the Call of Duty battle royale, disconnecting players and becoming more prevalent by the day. Warzone has been an unmitigated success for Activision since its 2020 release, amassing over 100 million total players and conflating content from multiple CoD installments for the first time in the series’ history. However, it has been marred by some pretty serious issues, most notably in the form of cheating and glitches. The former has seen the introduction of RICOCHET anti-cheat in an attempt to get a handle on the situation. The latter continues to spiral, with devs struggling to control emergent problems. One of the most egregious and recent is a “Corrupted Loadout Data” issue disconnecting players from servers and forcing them to restart Warzone. It has surfaced following the Season 2 Reloaded patch, which dropped back on March 23. One affected user said: “It puts me into a pre-game lobby then kicks me at the end of the countdown.” What’s worse is there is no obvious fix, with players reporting that adjusting classes, operators and even restarting the application hasn’t been working. Thankfully, Raven issued a pretty quick response, confirming on April 9 that they are looking into it. They tweeted: “We’re investigating an issue where Players are experiencing “Corrupted Loadout Data”. We will provide an update for this issue ASAP!” ❗️ We’re investigating an issue where Players are experiencing “Corrupted Loadout Data”. We will provide an update for this issue ASAP! — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) April 8, 2022 Unfortunately, that is the only update the devs were able to provide meaning, at the time of writing, there is no obvious fix. Nor did Raven provide a timescale on the fix, meaning affected players will have to sit tight and hope the issue resolves itself. We can expect Raven to fix it fairly speedily given the severity of the problem but, with more game-breaking issues surfacing, fan patience appears to be running out.

  • Warzone devs respond to FPS complaints from Xbox & PlayStation players – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond to FPS complaints from Xbox & PlayStation players ActivisionWarzone’s Caldera map has been causing performance issues on PlayStation and Xbox, but developers have finally addressed the issue. While Warzone’s Caldera map is receiving mixed reactions from fans, the main problem surrounding the new map are the various performance issues. Not only does this give PlayStation and Xbox a disadvantage over their PC counterparts, but it can also lead to some incredibly frustrating deaths. This is especially true when the game’s frame rate tanks during crucial firefights or all-important clutch plays. Currently, console players across Xbox Series X and PS5 are finding that Warzone is no longer hitting the intended 120 FPS. Fortunately, the developers have now responded to this performance-based problem. Warzone devs address console performance issues One of the main advantages of current-gen consoles is their ability to reach higher frame rates than their predecessors. While Xbox Series and PS5 still can’t match high-end PCs when it comes to customization and visual fidelity, the increased FPS does help put them on a level playing field. After all, Warzone can get rather hectic. This is especially true in Caldera where the added jungle terrain, aerial combat, and player density can quickly tank your frame rate. Obviously, this can be a huge problem during firefights where quick reactions times are needed to gain an edge. I play on Xbox Series X too so I’m in the same boat. Team is aware but I’ll find out why it’s not on the Trello board. Our comms team work super hard to keep our players updated for what is a very fluid and busy time right now. Thank you for your feedback and understanding. — Ted Timmins (@JustTeddii) December 12, 2021 Call of Duty Creative Director, Ted Timmins, recently responded to the problem. “I play on Xbox Series X too so I’m in the same boat … Our comms team work super hard to keep our players updated for what is a very fluid and busy time right now. Thank you for your feedback and understanding.” Since this response, the FPS issue on Xbox and PlayStation has been noted on the official Warzone Trello board. The developers will hopefully be addressing Caldera’s performance issues on current-gen consoles in the weeks and months ahead.

  • Warzone devs respond to Cronus & controller hack concerns with new Ricochet anti-cheat – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond to Cronus & controller hack concerns with new Ricochet anti-cheat ActivisionActivision has answered Warzone players’ concerns about how their new anti-cheat system will tackle cheaters using Cronus and other third-party devices to get ahead in the game. On October 13, Activision officially unveiled the RICOCHET Anti-Cheat system that is due to arrive in Call of Duty alongside the launch of Vanguard on November 5. While an anti-cheat system is extremely welcome in the regular multiplayer modes, the battle royale hit Warzone is where hacking has really become a problem, and the new Warzone experience should arrive a few weeks after Vanguard. Players will be hoping for the new anti-cheat system to completely demolish some of the software and programs that PC players can use to install cheats on the game, ranging from wallhacks to aimbot — but that’s not the full extent of the cheating problem. While most hacking and cheating issues come from PC players, console players — or anyone on controller — can also use third-party devices to cheat in-game. With modded controllers and devices such as the CronusMAX being so easy to attach to your controller and play with cheats on, some players were concerned that the RICOCHET system might not be able to detect these. In a Q&A with various influencers and personalities in Call of Duty, this was questioned, and Activision responded that “server-side technology that utilizes machine learning paves the way for such devices and scripts to be detected.” Q: What about Cronus and XIM devices on Console? A: Server-side technology that utilizes machine learning paves the way for such devices and scripts to be detected. Activision is looking to work with Sony and Microsoft on these issues – with little success thus far. — Call of Duty Tracker (@CODTracker) October 14, 2021 One issue that could hold this back, though, is the fact that Activision are having little success trying to get Sony and Microsoft to work with them on cracking down on these issues. It goes without saying that this new anti-cheat system could be a complete game-changer in Warzone and Call of Duty as a whole — and by the sounds of it, there will be no stone left unturned.

  • Warzone devs respond to claims anti-cheat was ‘turned off’ as they ban thousands – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond to claims anti-cheat was ‘turned off’ as they ban thousands ActivisionThe Call of Duty Warzone devs has responded to claims that Ricochet anti-cheat was “disabled” for a period, allowing cheaters to run riot as they’ve now banned thousands of hackers. Like pretty much every multiplayer game out there, Call of Duty has had it’s fair share of issues with cheaters and hackers over the years. Some, at times, have been pretty harmless, bringing new gamemodes to multiplayer that wouldn’t be accessible otherwise. However, when it comes to Warzone, there hasn’t been anything fun about the cheats. A mass influx of aim bots and wall hacks towards the end of the Verdansk era pushed many players into the arms of Fortnie and Apex Legends, and prompted the CoD devs to unveil their Ricochet anti-cheat. The anti-cheat has been rather successful, banning tens of thousands of players in routine banwaves. New wrinkles have also been added to the mix with cheaters also being shadowbanned and unable to do damage to other players. Warzone devs address claims that Ricochet anti-cheat was “disabled” With the release of Modern Warfare 3, hackers hadn’t been as prevalent as they once were, but players believe they’ve been on the rise. In fact, some cheat sellers claimed the devs had even “disabled” Ricochet for a period. Well, the devs have now clapped back at those claims with a big ban wave. “The RICOCHET Anti-Cheat team has been tracking a spike in cheating reports within the community. We are currently in test for additional security updates; however, the following updates have just been deployed: Disabled game code for limited-time perks (Ex. super speed),” the devs said on February 21. “As part of ongoing security updates, a single telemetry system was taken offline for upgrades over the weekend. This action resulted in cheat developers claiming RICOCHET Anti-Cheat was offline. It was not. As a result of monitoring activity over the weekend and the purposeful reactivation of this upgraded system, #TeamRICOCHET was able to identify and ban over 6000 accounts for cheating and hacking from February 16 – February 20.” The devs added that the Ricochet team will continue to “work on security updates for issues across various modes in Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare III” to combat cheating. So, anyone who may have thought they’d get away with using hacks from now on are going to be in for a bit of a shock.

  • Warzone devs respond to bug making some Operators parachute faster than others – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond to bug making some Operators parachute faster than others ActivisionWarzone devs have announced that they are working on a fix for a frustrating glitch recently discovered, where specific operators would parachute faster than others. Back on March 16, the Warzone community had a long debate over parachuting and dropping in. People were auguring that the new system that was added with Season 2 of Pacific wasn’t working as intended. As part of the new season in the the Pacific era, gliding got reworked, making operators go slower than during the Verdansk days. However, people were reporting that players were getting to the ground faster than them, and it was completely inconsistent. Turns out there is a major bug, but Raven Software tweeted that they are aware. Warzone devs promise fix for parachuting speeds ❗️ We are aware of an issue where certain Operators are unaffected by the Season 2 parachute speed improvements. We are actively working on a fix, thanks for the reports! Trello:https://t.co/tYyjTlaCcZ — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) March 17, 2022 On March 17, Raven finally confirmed that their Season 2 update to the gliding system is bugged on Operators. This revamp made it so people would glide in at 6.6 speed instead of 10.4, allowing them to go much further. However, if you use an Operator skin that was released for Modern Warfare or Cold War, then you were almost guaranteed to drop in at the old speed. This was causing people to land well short of the mark that they planned on going to. So, if you’re a fan of the Roze, Weaver, or Wraith skins (to name a few) from the MW and CW era, then you will want to stay away from these until Raven have confirmed that all skins are working as intended. There is no timetable for when this fix will be released to the community, but with Season 2 Reloaded quickly approaching, players should expect it to come in the upcoming weeks.

  • Warzone devs respond to broken Buy Station bug in November 3 update – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond to broken Buy Station bug in November 3 update ActivisionThe November 3 Warzone update made a number of bug fixes in the game, but also seems to have broken Buy Stations in the process, making things significantly harder for players. While the November 3 update wasn’t a big one by any means, just addressing a few issues with weapon camos, operators and the like, but it’s done some harm to the game too. With the Vanguard premiere happening just before the update, the issues it created seemed to fly under the radar for some, but before long players noticed a distinct issue every time they dropped in. When picking your drop, your decisions can often be swayed by the locations of a Buy Station nearby — but what if there aren’t any at all? Buy Stations disappear in Warzone update After the update, multiple players have reported that there are no Buy Stations when they drop in. Not only that, but others have said the Buys are slowly appearing across the map as the game goes on. “There were no buy stations on the map when I dropped,” said Sudden_Giraffe on Reddit. “Just after the first loadout, some appeared. Later more appeared. I grabbed a Supply Run contract and it pointed to a spot on the map where there was no buy station. “I thought is maybe just a bug for me, but I didn’t hear any ‘Enemy UAV overhead’ callouts and people I killed all had lots of money, so it’s either intentional or a bug affecting everybody.” This was corroborated by dartgoblinisthebest, who showed a screenshot of his map after dropping in, with no Buy Stations on it. Warzone devs address broken Buy Stations It didn’t take long for devs Raven Software to catch wind of the bug, and posted a tweet about it within hours. Confirming that the change was not intentional, Raven simply said that “It’s a bug and we’re looking into it.” Hopefully, this bug doesn’t last too long, as it’s becoming a serious pain for players. We all know the struggle of finding $10k to buy our loadouts — now it’s just become even harder.

  • Warzone devs respond to annoying Heartbeat Sensor and Armor Satchel bugs – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond to annoying Heartbeat Sensor and Armor Satchel bugs ActivisionInfinity Ward devs have responded to two seriously frustrating bugs in Call of Duty: Warzone, one relating to the Heartbeat Sensor and another regarding the sought after Armor Satchel. Despite Warzone’s incredible popularity, many players have become frustrated with the plethora of bugs affecting Call of Duty’s sophomore battle royale. From the bizarre to the game-breaking, Infinity Ward have been accused by some of being slow at fixing the issues their game is facing. A couple more have surfaced recently, too, focusing on the Heartbeat Sensor and Armor Satchel. The bug affecting the Heartbeat Sensors in Warzone is arguably the more prominent, and sees players experience serious lag and freezing when it is pulled out. Needless to say, this issue is getting Warzone players killed frequently. One Warzone player tweeted Co-Design Director of Multiplayer Joe Cecot about the issue, who responded to say that they are looking into the issue. While he did not provide information on a timescale, it’s fair to assume that a fix will be on its way soon given the severity of the issue. Another issue that has been identified by Warzone players relates to the game’s Armor Satchels – a highly sought after item given the importance of armor. However, certain players were finding fresh Armor Satchels on the ground that, for whatever reason, had full armor when picked up. Needless to say this put certain lucky players at a huge advantage, as having eight armor spare is an ideal situation in any Warzone match. A new Trello card added to Infinity Ward’s board states that this has been fixed, and the patch will be implemented soon. Time scales were not provided but with Infinity Ward hot on the heels of the bugs, we can expect swift fixes in the near future, potentially with the Season 6 update. This is set to drop on September 29, barring any last minute delays.

  • Warzone devs respond to annoying ‘fetching store info’ glitch locking players out – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond to annoying ‘fetching store info’ glitch locking players out ActivisionWarzone’s frustrating ‘Fetching Store Info’ glitch is preventing players from accessing the game, as the battle royale encounters one of its most annoying issues yet. With Modern Warfare 2 on the horizon, Warzone is set to enter an exciting new era. Until the new battle royale experience arrives, Warzone players are still encountering their fair share of annoying glitches and bugs. The ‘Fetching Store Info’ glitch is a common glitch in Warzone follow the latest update and players are desperate for a fix. Warzone’s ‘fetching store info’ issue frustrates locked out players Warzone players have reached out to the wider CoD community, as the ‘Fetching Store Info’ glitch prevents legions of players from accessing the game. Some players, like Redditor OriginalXVI, have vented their distaste towards the glitch as Warzone guru’s like JGOD continue to emerge victorious. The Redditor said: “it’s nice seeing creators show off their 20 win camos in a temporary mode, when I can log into the game due to the ‘Fetching Store Info’ crash.” Meanwhile, the issue itself has been ruining the core Warzone experience for weeks, as Redditor hospinat attempted to find a fix too. Player HawkWest AU suggests to “wait it out, could be a couple minutes” as a temporary fix. Unfortunately, the issue still persists according to hospinat: “I tried reinstalling twice, on external storage and console storage and tried deleting the ps5 saved data but nothing helped.” In the past, Warzone players have managed to rectify a multitude of errors within the game, but the ‘fetching store info’ issue remains a prominent problem. Currently, there isn’t an official method to rectify the ‘Fetching Store Info’ glitch but developers Raven Software “investigating” the issue according to their official Trello board. It remains to be seen as to when the problem will be properly ironed out, so we’ll have to keep an eye on things.

  • Warzone devs respond to annoying Cold War weapon select bug – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond to annoying Cold War weapon select bug ActivisionDevelopers Raven Software have responded to a frustrating selection bug surrounding a number of Black Ops Cold War guns in Call of Duty: Warzone. Warzone has become the first Call of Duty title to incorporate content from multiple different games simultaneously, following the merger with Black Ops Cold War way back in December of 2020. Such a crossover – merging two different game engines and content – was bound to throw up a few issues, but the general opinion was complimentary of how the merger was handled and managed. However, the Season Five update has thrown up previously unseen issues, including the duplication of Cold War weapons when selecting guns for loadouts. The problems were captured by Redditor ‘ryntab‘, who was offered three different versions of the Hauer 77 shotgun when choosing their Warzone loadout. A number of other players reported similar problems, borne out of the major Season Five update. Raven were prompt to respond on social media, confirming that they are aware of the issues. “We are aware of an issue in this patch that causes BOCW Weapons to be displayed multiple times in the Weapon Select menu,” they said. “This will be fixed in an upcoming update.” We are aware of an issue in this patch that causes BOCW Weapons to be displayed multiple times in the Weapon Select menu. This will be fixed in an upcoming update. 👍 — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) August 20, 2021 It’s nowhere near as egregious as some bugs that have plagued Warzone – who can forget the infamous demon gun glitch? – but players have found it fairly frustrating nonetheless. Thankfully Raven have confirmed a fix will be coming. Given it’s a fairly simple issue, players can expect a similarly simple fix so we shouldn’t have to wait too long for it to be banished to the history books. In the meantime, players can get excited for the incorporation of CoD: Vanguard’s content to Warzone.

  • Warzone devs respond as players claim Precision Airstrike is “completely useless” – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond as players claim Precision Airstrike is “completely useless” ActivisionThe Warzone devs have addressed some fan complaints with the recent changes to Precision Airstrikes, suggesting that further changes could come to the killstreak. While the formula of Warzone is the same as other battle royales – drop in, loot up, and try to be the last team alive – it adopts plenty of mechanics from the traditional Call of Duty multiplayer modes. The most interesting of which has always been the use of killstreaks. Players are able to call in UAVs, use the Guardian heatwave to slow enemies, and wipe out squads by calling in a Precision Airstrike. However, the airstrike has caused plenty of issues at times. Over the years, fans have complained that they don’t get enough of a heads-up about when an airstrike is hitting them. That prompted the devs to add a new notification in Season 2, including showing the flight path and area in which the blast would affect. Warzone devs respond to Precision Airstrike change complaints Some players have suggested that those changes have made the killstreak “completely useless,” which has prompted the devs to respond. “The range at which players will receive feedback on an incoming Precision Airstrike is < 100m from the target area, allowing players to predict ahead of an enemy player or enemy squad’s movement. This distance is a metric that we will continue to monitor based on player sentiment and internal data,” Raven said, commenting on the CoDWarzone subreddit. “We are passionate that the design direction the Precision Airstrike is heading in is the right one. For too long players have been hit by a Precision Airstrike without any knowledge and we heard this feedback loud and clear that it needed addressing. This feedback was also validated when we looked at our internal data which highlighted how many players were being killed significantly above and beyond other killstreaks.” The devs noted that the changes have made it more difficult to get kills with the airstrike, there is now a “better balance to the Killstreaks ecosystem.” It remains to be seen if further changes will be made anytime soon, but at least the devs are still keeping a watchful eye on things.

  • Warzone devs respond as Iron Trials meta dominated by “broken” marksman rifle loadout – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond as Iron Trials meta dominated by “broken” marksman rifle loadout ActivisionCall of Duty: Warzone’s latest update combined fan-favorite modes by bringing Iron Trials to Rebirth Island. It also brought a bug that turned marksman rifles into the overpowered meta, so devs are investigating. To kick March off, Raven Software introduced a new playlist: Rebirth Island Iron Trials. The beloved, high-TTK Iron Trials mode was converted for the game’s smallest map, while maintaining similar mechanics. Unfortunately, it seems that some wires got crossed in the process, though. Within hours, players discovered that all marksman rifles seemed to have the same one-shot kill potential as snipers – paving a path for a nightmarish meta. With Vanguard SVT and G-43 loadouts beginning to run rampant, the devs responded quickly on March 4. In a new tweet, they explained that the issue is being worked on. Warzone devs address Iron Trials one-shot marksman bug ❗️ We’re aware of an issue causing Marksman Rifles (VG) to output unintended headshot damage in Rebirth Iron Trials. A fix is being worked on. Stand by for more info.https://t.co/oZ4xyok0FQ — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) March 4, 2022 With higher base health, Iron Trials is meant to have a higher TTK than all other modes. The exception would be sniper rifles, which have shorter range but can still down enemies with a one-shot headshot within 30 meters. As Raven reference in their tweet, this has not been the case with the new playlist. A bug is causing marksman rifles to enjoy the same one-shot potential as snipers, despite their increased mobility. As such, “a fix is being worked on.” In the meantime, players are already dropping ridiculous highlight plays with broken marksman loadouts. Rebirth Island Iron Trials meta dominated by marksman loadout bug In a series of clips from ‘gorboob,’ you can see the potency of these bugged marksman rifles. Like a sniper on steroids, gorb is able to quickly move around, aim down sights, and knock off heads with surprising firing rates. After testing, they helped put together the best G-43 “one-shot glitch” loadout for Iron Trials: 🚨 Broken glitch🚨 It seems that in Rebirth Island Iron Trial, all Vanguard Marksman rifles have the same behavior as snipers. Which means they are ONE SHOT headshot, even with automatic barrels.. This is more broken than the DMR.. Thanks to @Hikentv @gorboob for finding it! pic.twitter.com/FeSqyHuePv — Warzone Loadout – CODMunity (@Warzone_Loadout) March 4, 2022 If you want to take advantage of the bugged marksman rifles while Raven work on a fix, the G-43 seems to be the way to go. With one-shot headshot potential within 30 meters, the weapon is a menace on Rebirth Island. Of course, there are a number of other playlists available for those who want to avoid a marksman meta that’s “more broken than the DMR.”

  • Warzone devs respond as fans discover 2 new invisible skins – Dexerto

Warzone devs respond as fans discover 2 new invisible skins ActivisionWarzone players have been haunted by invisible operator skins that are ruining the game, but after discovering even more bugged ones, devs say they are working on a fix. With the launch of Season 1, players had the option of purchasing a battle pass with 100 tiers worth of rewards. The final tier grants an operator skin that has some supernatural powers. This glitch was ruining Warzone as it would make anyone that using the Awoken Francis operator skin invisible and nearly impossible to spot. However, a January 5 update seemingly fixes this texture bug but players were quick to notice that more skins were starting to get the same features. Luckily, the devs are looking into this. Warzone devs looking into invisible skin issues ❗️ We are aware of the reports that certain skins are appearing invisible in #Warzone. Please standby while we investigate this issue. Trello: https://t.co/z4CHXpJGR4 — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) January 10, 2022 In a Tweet by Raven Software on January 10, the team said they are aware that certain skins are making players invisible in Warzone. This comes after Warzone players noticed that two more skins were letting players channel their inner Harry Potter and put an invisibility cloak on. There are 2 new invisible skins in #Warzone… and they’re not new skins at all. Wraith and Weavers Dark Aether skin. Hopefully you guys can drop a fix to this with tomorrow’s update? @RavenSoftware pic.twitter.com/L1ySOqVDr9 — ModernWarzone (@ModernWarzone) January 10, 2022 The skins in question are the Wraith and Weavers Dark Aether operators. These are causing players to look like floating heads when they are running around the map and when looking at some clips, it is hard to see them. This isn’t the first time an issue with operator skins has popped up this season. Earlier, there was an issue with the Zeyna Paladin purchased skin that glitched out and transformed into a “strong woman.” Players are hopeful that Raven is able to resolve this issue as soon as possible so people can’t abuse this unfair advantage in Warzone. With the Season 1 Reloaded update expected to drop during the week of January 10, there could be a patch for this coming very soon.

  • Warzone devs remove snowballs from gulag after insane DrDisrespect clip – Dexerto

Warzone devs remove snowballs from gulag after insane DrDisrespect clip Raven Software & TechSpotThe Warzone devs have removed snowballs from the game’s gulag after DrDisrespect posted a wild clip of them being used in the worst way. The CODmas event began this week, as it added several holiday-themed cosmetics and game modes to the popular multiplayer game. These additions included snowballs being available in the gulag of Warzone for players to throw at one another while they wait or watch a fight. However, the snowballs proved to be more problematic than intended as DrDisrespect posted a clip of him falling victim to snowballs being used in a bad, bad way. Warzone devs removed snowballs after DrDisrespect’s insane clip The clip has been making the rounds on social media after DrDisrespect posted it to his X account, with a caption saying: “At this point, they’re just running out of ideas…” The Warzone clip shows the Doc loading into his one-on-one match to spawn back into the game. However, before the timer can even reach zero for him to do anything, another player in the waiting area pelts him with snowballs to death. At this point, they’re just running out of ideas… pic.twitter.com/SvmsY06w4s — Dr Disrespect (@DrDisrespect) December 21, 2023 The fight is over before it even begins, and DrDisrespect’s reaction is nothing but shock as he silently looks around in disbelief. It didn’t take long for the Warzone devs to respond to this clip, as they soon announced they were removing snowballs from the gulag. 📢 #Warzone — Call of Duty Updates (@CODUpdates) December 21, 2023 Snowballs have been disabled in the Gulag. While the announcement did not directly reference the clip that was posted by DrDisrespect, the community is certain that it is a direct result of what happened, with many users posting the clip in response to the announcement. The CODmas event has brought quite a bit of fun to Warzone, festive things to the game, as well as its multiplayer and Zombies counterparts. But that doesn’t mean something like this can’t slip through the cracks.

  • Warzone devs put on blast for nerfing “OP” attachment everyone uses – Dexerto

Warzone devs put on blast for nerfing “OP” attachment everyone uses ActivisionCall of Duty fans have hit out at the Warzone devs for nerfing the popular but “OP” JAK BFB muzzle in the Season 2 update as it takes the “fun” away. Like pretty much every multiplayer game these days, Warzone has had its fair share of broken or overpowered items and weapons. No one is forgetting the DMR meta anytime soon, for example. Whenever these overpowered weapons pop up, they can cause plenty of headaches for players as well as the devs. However, they can be pretty fun to use yourself, even if the devs spring into action quickly and take it away. In recent weeks, Warzone players have been using the JAK BFB muzzle as a bit of a crutch attachment. The muzzle significantly reduced vertical recoil and gun kick, even though you’d appear on the enemy’s UAV in a similar way to an Advanced UAV. However, that appears to be changing. Warzone players annoyed by JAK BFB muzzle nerf As a part of the Season 2 update, the devs decided to nerf the muzzle in a big way, decreasing the recoil benefits and also adding a substantial bullet velocity penalty. “RIP JAK BFB. We hardly knew ye, said one annoyed player. “They’re great at taking anything fun and useful and making it obsolete. Over 40 muzzle attachments and less than 5 are worth using. Down goes another,” another added. “Basically killed it,” commented another. “Bullet velocity is already atrocious in MW3 and MW2 God damn LMFAO. How ‘bout they nerf its extremely OP benefits rather than ruining something that is already horrible in this game,” another argued. Some fans are glad to see the muzzle being nerfed in such a big way, however. “It’s stats were extremely OP. Not surprised to say the least,” said one. As the muzzle has only just gone under the knife and been changed, it’s unlikely that the devs will reconsider anytime soon. So, you’ll have to change up those loadouts.

  • Warzone devs provide update on Ranked Play Battle Royale – Dexerto

Warzone devs provide update on Ranked Play Battle Royale ActivisionSeason 4’s Warzone patch came with an update from the developers on the status of Ranked Play Battle Royale. Urzikstan was one of Season 1’s marquee features as part of the MW3 and Warzone integration, a new giant map that let players run wild to experience the changes implemented by Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software. As the seasons have gone on, Urzikstan has been rather barren of changes, notably the complete omission of Ranked Play. Ranked Play is in the game but in the form of Ranked Resurgence on Fortune’s Keep and Rebirth Island, just not on the new big map. Yet, with Season 4’s arrival and a notable 20-player match size increase, Ranked Play Battle Royale still isn’t an option. Aware of the fan frustration, Warzone’s devs have issued an update on the mode’s absence, with a target goal of the end of the year, per a statement in the patch notes. “While our teams are targeting to release Ranked Play Battle Royale before the end of the year, we are not ready to commit to specific timing just yet. We are using the months ahead to fine-tune the design of our Ranked Play system to reflect and compliment changes since made to the core Battle Royale experience,” the notes said. The developers said they will focus on maintaining Ranked Resurgence in upcoming seasons “given the mode’s success.” All of this is to “provide a diverse and fulfilling competitive experience across different modes.” No time frame is attached to the mode’s launch, and given the reveal of Black Ops 6, it’s likely that Ranked Play and the next Call of Duty title could launch together. It is also possible the delay is part of the devs looking to balance Warzone with more players in mind, especially after the recent lobby increase. With the Black Ops 6 Direct scheduled for June 9, more information may arrive detailing what comes next for the standard Battle Royale mode. Until then, Warzone fans will have to carry on with Warzone’s Ranked Resurgence on Fortune’s Keep and Rebirth or watch the World Series of Warzone for standard competitive play.

  • Warzone devs provide RICOCHET anti-cheat update after multiple player complaints – Dexerto

Warzone devs provide RICOCHET anti-cheat update after multiple player complaints ActivisionWith an increase of Warzone cheaters in early 2022, the devs have provided a RICOCHET anti-cheat update and assured players that they are working hard to combat hackers. The RICOCHET anti-cheat launched back on December 15, shortly after the beginning of Season 1 Pacific. While it initially saw great success, players quickly found themselves back to having games ruined by hackers. Naturally, this has the community doubting the anti-cheat. However, the Warzone devs wanted to clear the air and said that it might not be perfect but the team is “committed to fighting.” Warzone devs update community on anti-cheat https://twitter.com/CallofDuty/status/1494720562396024841 In a Twitter post on February 18, Activision released a blog post on the current status of RICOCHET. While fans thought cheating was reaching a high point again, the team stated otherwise. “RICOCHET was able to catch and disable accounts quickly, bringing cheating within Warzone to an all-time low during the holiday break.” While fans were initially satisfied with the anti-cheat, in January fans reported that cheaters had returned. Following this, flying cars and god mode hacks returned. “As time has progressed cheat developers have looked for new ways to try to exploit the game. Some have succeeded, many have not.” Activision also added that the recent spike of cheaters “is not at the level it was during Verdansk.” They also confirmed that hackers in-game are being punished with a “Damage Shield.” This prevents detected hackers from doing damage to other players in the lobby. Activision closed by saying that they have improved their system to hand out permanent suspensions for cheaters on all current and future accounts made. While some hackers were able to bypass the anti-cheat measures, the Warzone devs said this isn’t a “magic bullet”, it has been successful at reducing the overall number of cheaters, and is constantly improving.

  • Warzone devs provide 10 tips to dominate in new Fortune’s Keep map – Dexerto

Warzone devs provide 10 tips to dominate in new Fortune’s Keep map ActivisionDevelopers from Raven Software and High Moon teamed up and released 10 tips that can help players dominate Fortune’s Keep from day one. Warzone and Vanguard Season 4 introduces a brand new map titled Fortune’s Keep. The goal of the developers was to create a new “Rebirth Island”-sized map from scratch based on feedback from the community. Fortune’s Keep is located on a Mediterranean island that has been taken over by mercenaries. Warzone players will be tasked with taking back control of the island. After presumably play-testing Fortune’s Keep for hours, Raven Software and High Moon developers teamed up to give their best tips to new players. 10 Fortune’s Keep tips from the developers In an official blog post, the Warzone developers stated “Although we know our way around a good Warzone lobby and keep our own ‘meta loadout’ documents for after-work sessions, uncharted territory calls for High Moon and Raven Software developers to help us craft these tips.” Read More: Warzone devs confirm Fortune’s Keep will be part of a map rotation in Season 4 There are a few key nuggets to take away from the 10 developer tips. Fortune Favors the Curious – Golden Opportunities – Keep Out – Fancy Footwork – Wind Down at the Winery – See You at the Crossroads – Escape Smuggler’s Cove – Get Cash Before Visiting the Market – Same Storage, New Tricks – You got Boost Power! – Under Golden Opportunites, the developers advised to “check the Banquet Table in Keep, the Winery’s Cellar, the Graveyard, the Town Docks, and other areas to potentially find some stacks.” There are two redeploy balloons on Fortune’s Keep located at the Grotto and on the coastal path from the Town. Read More: What is Cash Extraction Event on new Warzone map Fortune’s Keep? For players jumping in for the first time, developers suggested landing on the island’s eastern section because it is the “least complex” area on the map. Smugglers Cove has an intricate cave system and in order to avoid any complications with the circle, the developers’ best advice is to “use arrows painted on the cave walls to find the nearest exit,” Try out all of these tips for yourself when Fortune’s Keep releases on June 22 at 9 a.m. PST.

  • Warzone devs promise Vanguard Zombies camos coming faster than Cold War’s – Dexerto

Warzone devs promise Vanguard Zombies camos coming faster than Cold War’s ActivisionAs the Warzone devs continue to fix the game and communicate to the community, they finally promised players that Vanguard Zombies camos will be coming to the battle royale faster than it took them to do so in Cold War. Call of Duty owes much of the popularity for Zombies due to its Black Ops Cold War edition of the mode. With the game being relatively easier than previous titles, but still feeling rewarding, new players poured hundreds of hours slaying the undead. On top of that, there were a handful of people the solely grinded the mode just for the Dark Aether camo which was a near remake of Dark Matter from Black Ops 3. Warzone players that accomplished this feat, however, were unable to show off their accomplishment in the battle royale for months. With Vanguard, it’s the same story as players still can’t equip camos from Zombies onto their loadouts. But the devs assured the community that that could change in the future. Warzone devs plan to have Vanguard Zombies camos soon Oh something from our chat with the devs that I forgot to bring up was: asked about Vanguard Zombies camos in Warzone, and someone reminded them it took 6 months for Cold War Zombies camos to be added. “”The bar is literally on the floor for us this year”” to beat 6 months. — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) February 12, 2022 In a tweet from CharlieIntel, as part of the devs initative to be more clear with the community, they did hit on the topic of Zombies camo. When someone told them it took six months to add in Cold War’s variants the devs replied, “The bar is literally on the floor for us this year.” It has been three months since Vanguard’s November release, which means that the team still has about another three to integrate these camos into the battle royale. This will give players a chance to use stuff like the green Dark Aether, which we have embedded a preview above, Golden Viper or others that are exclusive to the mode. There is no official date for this feature but one thing is certain, the devs are determined to get it in quicker than the six-month time frame that it did in Cold War.

  • Warzone devs promise “taps” change in ranked play update – Dexerto

Warzone devs promise “taps” change in ranked play update ActivisionWarzone ranked play developers Treyarch have promised a fairly significant update to the game in a future update, as they seek to eliminate the abundance of “taps” across Fortune’s Keep that may be artificially inflating SR. Ranked dropped in Warzone alongside the launch of Season 2, coming with the Fortune’s Keep Resurgence map at the same time. It’s a whole different ranked experience for Warzone players, who have only ever played it on the big map, but Ranked Resurgence is a huge change of pace, both literally and figuratively. However, players quickly realized that there’s one easy way to help boost their SR, and that’s with “taps” — which may soon be a thing of the past. What are taps in Warzone? In Warzone ranked, you get SR (Skill Rating) points for kills and assists, as well as where you place in a match. Players quickly noticed, though, that you also get additional SR for shots on players that are already downed, prompting them to start “tapping” opponents who had already been downed to earn themselves a little extra SR, even if they didn’t get the down originally. It became a divisive topic among competitive players, and many called for the removal of taps — and they might finally be getting their wish. Treyarch promise “taps” change In a post made on February 14, Treyarch addressed the situation: “In a future update, we will adjust how Kill & Assist SR is awarded when engaging with downed enemies to mitigate “tap” gameplay and increase competitive integrity of the SR system… “Players who didn’t damage the eliminated player shortly before they were downed will instead earn Squadmate Kill SR when their teammates down and eliminate an enemy. In the same future update, we’re granting Squadmate Kill SR regardless if a player is dead or alive.” They revealed the following changes were made: Only the following players will receive Kill & Assist credit when a player is eliminated: The player who downed the eliminated player. – Players who damaged the eliminated player shortly before they were downed. – – They added that “this change is being made to ensure the competitive integrity of Kill & Assist SR by removing the ability for players to ‘tap’ downed enemies to overinflate their SR gains.” When exactly this future update remains to be seen. They could be looking way ahead to Season 3, which will be in early April, or perhaps the Season 2 Reloaded update which will be sometime in March, and perhaps a more desired timeframe for ranked players.

  • Warzone devs promise smoke grenade nerf in MW3 integration – Dexerto

Warzone devs promise smoke grenade nerf in MW3 integration ActivisionCall of Duty: Warzone developers, Raven Software, have promised a sizeable nerf to the meta smoke grenades in Warzone with the Modern Warfare 3 integration, after they dominated the top level of play and endgame situations for much of Al Mazrah’s lifespan. Smoke grenades weren’t the most popular utility in the original iteration of Warzone, used sparingly across Verdansk, Caldera, Rebirth Island, and Fortune’s Keep in specific situations but never particularly extensively. That changed drastically in Al Mazrah, where a lack of movement and fast TTK meant that rotating or looting your kills became far more difficult. As such, smoke grenades became imperative, especially towards the endgame where rotating with the circle wasn’t the easiest. Now, with some major changes coming to the COD battle royale, the devs have revealed one thing that will be changing is the smoke meta. Smoke grenade nerf in Warzone With Urzikstan replacing Al Mazrah as the big map in Warzone, there are some huge changes coming to the game, giving players some entirely fresh new content and gameplay to dive into. This includes huge changes to contracts, a 100-player count on Urzikstan, and a stats reset among other things. Not only that, but smoke grenades will be receiving an approximate 20% nerf, as confirmed by the developers in a creator call on Monday, December 4, just two days before the new Warzone launches. As many players pointed out, though, this may not have been entirely necessary, as a large part of the smoke meta was due to the lack of movement in comparison to Modern Warfare 2019 and the new Modern Warfare 3. That said, with players realizing how helpful smokes are, there will no doubt be some still utilizing them to their fullest and making the most of them, though we may see a return to the use of stun and flash grenades as well as Stims once the update drops.

  • Warzone devs promise PPSh nerf after accidentally making it the best gun – Dexerto

Warzone devs promise PPSh nerf after accidentally making it the best gun ActivisionWarzone devs have promised a fix to the PPSh after a “secret” buff made it one of the most powerful weapons in Warzone. Just a few days after the Warzone Pacific Season 2 update, players discovered that the PPSh-41 has received a secret buff that massively boosted its damage. Players found the weapon’s time to kill (TTK) had plummeted to less than half of a second, making it far more powerful than any other weapon. Now, devs say they’re aware of the issue, and working on a fix. “Efforts are undergoing” to fix PPSh glitch ❗️ We’re aware of an issue with the PPSh-41’s damage profile, which has resulted in an unintended increase to both its base damage and location-based multipliers. Efforts are undergoing to bring the weapon back in-line.https://t.co/EQzepMEgWd — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) February 22, 2022 On February 22 Raven Software tweeted they were aware of the issues with the PPSh, and were working on a fix to bring it back to where it should be. “We’re aware of an issue with the PPSh-41’s damage profile, which has resulted in an unintended increase to both its base damage and location-based multipliers,” they posted. “Efforts are undergoing to bring the weapon back in-line.” An “unintended increase” to base damage definitely sounds like the glitch that was discovered by players just a few days before, so it’s encouraging devs say they’re already working on a fix. It’s unknown exactly when devs will roll out a fix, so players who have racking up the kills with the weapon will want to get as much mileage as they can before one is live.

  • Warzone devs promise fix for map glitch breaking players aim – Dexerto

Warzone devs promise fix for map glitch breaking players aim Treyarch/ActivisionRaven Software has promised a fix for the Warzone stair glitch that prevents players from aiming down sight after they’ve left the slide animation. When it comes to FPS’s, Warzone is regarded as one of the most popular and exciting titles in the genre. However, despite having a huge player base, it’s built up a reputation for having a countless amount of frustrating bugs. While some of these glitches can be shrugged off by the community, others can completely ruin the gameplay experience and cause players to be eliminated for seemingly no reason at all. Despite this, if players submit clips of these issues, Raven will sometimes address them directly and give them an update on when they can expect the bug to be fixed. Well, that’s exactly what happened when Twitch streamer DanimuhL posted a clip of the ADS stair glitch to Twitter. Raven Software promise fix for Warzone stair glitch During his Warzone stream, DanimuhL attempted to push a player who was sitting on a set of stairs in a building. Looking to surprise his opponent, he slid next to the staircase and attempted to ADS at the enemy. Unfortunately, a bug prevented him from doing so, resulting in him dying and being eliminated from the match. DanimuhL then took to Twitter and posted the clip, tagging Activision and Raven Software. Shortly after doing so, the devs replied, saying that the stair glitch is a known issue and they have a fix for it which will be rolled out in an upcoming update. According to the comments in the thread of the tweet, this issue is affecting both PC and console players. Hey Danny! This is a known issue and we have a fix for it. That’ll be releasing with an update soon! — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) July 7, 2021 Although there’s a lot of glitches in Warzone that need addressing, this is one that affects players regularly, so it’s great to see the devs are finally on top of it. Let’s hope the fix is added in the next game update and players can slide downstairs without being impeded by this frustrating bug.

  • Warzone devs plan Bren nerfs to fix ‘overpowered’ damage bug – Dexerto

Warzone devs plan Bren nerfs to fix ‘overpowered’ damage bug Activision / PixabayCall of Duty: Warzone’s developers have confirmed that the Bren LMG is bugged, dealing more damage than it’s supposed to. In response, Raven Software are currently planning nerfs for the meta weapon. The Warzone Pacific Season 2 update was supposed to nerf both the meta Bren LMG and MP-40 SMG. This would have thrown the battle royale’s entire loadout scene into disarray. Instead, while the MP-40 suffered, players quickly realized that the Bren didn’t seem impacted at all. The long-range menace, which was supposed to receive three nerfs, actually ended up feeling stronger than ever. Within days, fans took to the internet to complain about the Bren’s continued dominance. Now, it appears the gun received an accidental silent buff – much like the since-fixed PPSh – and actual nerfs are on the way. Warzone devs confirm nerfs coming for ‘OP’ Bren While Raven Software haven’t discussed the Bren much on social media, their Trello board mentions the weapon under “Global Issues.” As they explain, “the Light Machine Gun Charlie (VG)’s damage profile is incorrect, resulting in a higher-than-normal damage profile.” This confirms that the LMG’s damage is “higher-than-normal” (basically meaning it’s overpowered). Further, they’ve listed the topic under the “investigating” banner. This suggests that a fix should be on the way to finally weaken the Bren. Bren silently buffed alongside PPSh in Season 2? 🛠️ A #Warzone update has gone live! Includes Gameplay adjustments, Bug Fixes and changes to the PPSh-41 (VG)! The Season Two Patch Notes have been amended (see Feb 24): https://t.co/jL7RTPlDF5 pic.twitter.com/eoBcHP1Ja0 — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) February 24, 2022 As players might remember from the February 24 patch notes, the PPSh was confirmed to be silently and accidentally buffed in Season 2. At the time, the devs’ hot fix patched out the bug, which was “causing higher-than-intended Max/Mid/Min damage values for the PPSh-41.” The situation with the Bren feels very similar and, as such, should elicit the same treatment. While we don’t currently have a timeline for a fix, it appears that the Bren’s current damage profile was produced by an unintentional bug and will be nerfed in the near future.

  • Warzone devs officially revert loadout timing change after Season 1 backlash – Dexerto

Warzone devs officially revert loadout timing change after Season 1 backlash ActivisionCall of Duty: Warzone developers have altered course and rolled back one of their most controversial changes to the Pacific era. Now, players will be able to buy loadouts whenever they want – instead of needing to wait for the public drop. In Season 1 of Pacific, Caldera, Warzone’s devs introduced a new mechanic for the battle royale: loadouts would not be available for purchase until after the first public loadout dropped. This was a major shift in the game, as it forced gamers to wait until around the second circle to get their favorite guns. Ground loot RNG became more impactful, UAVs became more valuable, and players, most notably streamers, grew incensed. After over a month of streamers, and many fans of the game, complaining about the change – the devs have listened. Ahead of Season 2, they revealed on February 3 that loadout purchases will now be unrestricted (confirming an earlier leak). Warzone players can now buy loadouts whenever they want 🛠️ A #Warzone update has gone live! Loadout Drops are now available for purchase via Buy Stations from the get-go in Battle Royale. No more waiting! The Season One Patch Notes have been amended (see Feb 3rd): https://t.co/c5RLdmMEW6 pic.twitter.com/oZUUBORvkW — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) February 3, 2022 As explained in a February 3 tweet, the devs are bringing back Verdansk’s traditional loadout availability. Raven Software introduced the change in course very simply: “Loadout Drops are now available for purchase via Buy Stations from the get-go in Battle Royale.” To be specific, though, this change will only apply to core BR modes. Vanguard Royale modes will still operate with the delayed loadout purchases, until further notice. Warzone devs revert loadout change after backlash The devs are also well aware that this loadout change was… not particularly loved by the community. Having obviously seen FaZe Swagg’s pleas for them to make the change – and even his offer to tattoo his derriere if they did so – they’re now looking to complete the deal. While fans are probably wondering what design Swagg will choose for his inking, there’s another sign for optimism here: Warzone’s creators seem to be listening, at least a little bit, to community feedback.

  • Warzone devs nerf Numbers event audio after fan backlash – Dexerto

Warzone devs nerf Numbers event audio after fan backlash ActivisionCall of Duty: Warzone fan’s eardrums rejoice as the developers at Raven Software have briskly taken note of the Season 5 Numbers event backlash. In a September 29 patch, they’ve nerfed the annoyingly loud and omnipresent audio issues. Warzone’s Season 5 event, Numbers, was impossible to ignore if you played the game’s standard playlists. And that’s not because it’s so fun that you have to take notice, it’s because the audio was so loud and seemingly impossible to avoid. In a game where gathering information is so valuable, players weren’t thrilled to have their audio cues muddied with random, seemingly indecipherable digits. Fortunately, after days of fan complaints, the audio is being tuned. As Raven Software mentioned in a September 29 tweet, the volume and frequency of event-related audio distractions have both been nerfed. Warzone Numbers event audio nerfed 🛠️We have updated #Warzone to adjust the frequency and volume level of the Numbers event audio. Even through all the noise, we heard you loud and clear! The feedback is appreciated. 📢😅 — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) September 29, 2021 This is altogether good news for fans of the game. Those who have stuck it through, and still drop into Verdansk regularly, were not particularly fond of the new event’s volume. And that’s why typically annoyed users are responding to this patch with comments like “rare W.” And, for what it’s worth, Raven did take the oft-venomous backlash with poise. In their patch tweet, the studio explained that they “heard [fans] loud and clear” and that the “feedback is appreciated.” As for how that feedback was given, there was a mix of polite and impolite reactions. Warzone Numbers event audio backlash alright, @RavenSoftware what do we have to do to turn off this ‘the numbers’ audio in-game… — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) September 23, 2021 While the major accounts asked Raven nicely, less-prominent users weren’t as kind. Just in the replies to the CharlieIntel post, fans called the event things like “annoying,” “half-baked,” and “by FAR the single worst event.” Of course, a number of users also talked about wanting to delete or uninstall the game in order to save their eardrums. That’s a fairly typical reply on Twitter, though, but one has to wonder if they’re going to re-install the game now that the audio issues have apparently been patched out.

  • Warzone devs nerf Krampus in response to community backlash – Dexerto

Warzone devs nerf Krampus in response to community backlash ActivisionAfter days of complaints, Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific’s holiday demon, Krampus, is getting nerfed. The mythical monster was troubling players enough that Raven Software are toning things down for the Festive Fervor event. Within less than a week of Caldera’s holiday break, fans have already grown weary of Krampus. The extended festivities are expected to last for about two more weeks and players have been hoping to get rid of the uninvited, horned guest. While Krampus did earn some appreciation for his efforts in killing a rare hacker, that doesn’t seem to have made up for his other behavior. The demon attacks teams seemingly at random, with so much health that he verges on invincible. So, rather than get rid of the big brute altogether, Raven Software have heeded the complaints and nerfed the beast. Warzone devs nerf Krampus for rest of Festive Fervor event Looks like Krampus made it to the very top of the Festive Fervor naughty list. So… • Krampus’ health has been reduced significantly across all modes / respective squad sizes • Krampus no longer spawns after the 4th Circle Let this be a lesson to all those pesky Elves. 🎄 — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) December 21, 2021 In a December 21 tweet, Raven confirmed Krampus will be less of a bother by Christmastime. The devs are nerfing his health “significantly” across every mode (scaled to squad size). And, since nerfed health might mean as much to players already struggling in the late-game, they’ve also gone ahead and told Krampus to sit out the final circles. Now, Krampus will not spawn into games “after the fourth circle.” This news is already well-received by fans of the game, who have replied with appreciations like “thank you so much” and “we love this for you.” Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to be good-enough news for many. A number of the replies come from console players who are still struggling to even play the game, let alone fight Krampus. With players responding to Raven’s tweet asking for console fixes, it’s clear that Krampus isn’t the only thing ruining the holidays.

  • Warzone devs make it easier to collect souls in Haunting event – Dexerto

Warzone devs make it easier to collect souls in Haunting event ActivisionAs part of The Haunting event, the Warzone devs released a small update to expedite the soul-collecting process. Players drop a Soul anytime they’re eliminated in MW2 or Warzone’s Haunting event. Unlike previous events, the Souls are automatically added, excising the need to visit a Buy Station in WZ or DMZ. Souls can be traded for cosmetic items such as weapon skins, charms, calling cards, etc. Collecting 10 items rewards an exclusive Roze skin, and 15 items unlock a new Konig skin. On October 24, the devs finally revealed the final six Soul Capture rewards. This includes the animated Ghoulie camo, which can be unlocked in exchange for 1000 souls. Players may feel as though 1000 souls is a little daunting on paper. But, fortunately, the devs just made the whole process a whole lot less stressful. Warzone devs simplify Soul Capture event On October 24, the Warzone devs announced: “We’ve just released an update that increases the drop rate and match cap of Souls for the remainder of the Soul Capture event.” It’s unclear what exactly this update entails, but players discovered on their own how big of a difference the change makes. One community member claimed the Soul match cap has been increased to 18 in Multiplayer, 25 in DMZ, and 30 in battle royale matches. Most suggestions pointed toward playing Shipment matches as the fastest way to acquire souls. Players also suggested going into a Massive Resurgence game, opening crates, and then backing out after reaching the match cap. As part of the Carry Forward program, players can use the Ghoulie camo on their weapons in Modern Warfare 3. The Haunting event ends on November 6, so players need to get going soon if they haven’t started collecting Souls yet. For more, stay locked into the rest of our Warzone coverage.

  • Warzone devs investigating broken hitmarkers after new update – Dexerto

Warzone devs investigating broken hitmarkers after new update ActivisionRaven Software, now lead developers on Call of Duty’s battle royale Warzone, have confirmed they are investigating the issues with hitmarkers following the February 5 patch. Despite Warzone’s undeniable popularity, many fans have become frustrated at various points as invasive bugs come and go. Some of the most egregious offenders are the infamous ‘demon gun’ glitch and infinite stim. The latter was actually targeted in the February 5 patch following its reappearance but, hopping back in after the patch was downloaded, many users realized it had broken something pretty vital to the game. Hitmarkers, used by the game to indicate damage being dealt to an opponent, were failing to register for some users. This was not an issue prior to the February 5 patch being implemented. FYI we’re looking into the claims that hit markers are inconsistent following last nights update.https://t.co/fhc8xkmka4 — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) February 5, 2021 Given the prevalence of the problem, Raven were quick to confirm they were investigating the issues late on February 5. They said: “FYI we’re looking into the claims that hit markers are inconsistent following last night’s update.” Attached was a link to Warzone’s Trello page, confirming that it is under investigation. The card is titled “Hit markers: Enemies inconsistently show hit markers and kill markers when shot”. As of the time of writing – 5:30am EST on February 6 – it is still marked as unsolved. Many users have been immensely frustrated by the issues, which seemingly surfaced out of a patch that was unrelated to any hitmarker or hit-registration issues. What’s more, the issues seem to be fairly random. Some players have reported the problems as coming and going in games, meaning a cause is also difficult to identify. However, with the problems now on Raven’s radar, we can expect a swift patch once the problem is isolated and recreated in a developer environment. After that, expect a small update live to fix the problems and return Warzone’s hitmarkers to their normal state.

  • Warzone devs investigate bug allowing friendly vehicles to kill teammates – Dexerto

Warzone devs investigate bug allowing friendly vehicles to kill teammates ActivisionCall of Duty: Warzone’s Season 3 Reloaded update brought along some ‘80s fun, but also a glitch that may have ruined friendships. Fortunately, Raven Software are investigating the bug that allows players to kill teammates by running over them with vehicles. John Rambo and John McClane joined the Verdansk fray in Warzone’s Season 3 Reloaded patch — along with a number of new POIs (points of interest) referencing the heroes’ ‘80s action films. But, somewhere along the line, action movie explosions got a little too realistic and impacted Verdansk vehicles. Unlike every season of Warzone prior, players have noticed that their own teammates’ cars can now kill them instantaneously. This has proven to be nightmarish for casual players looking for a good time, but especially so for competitive players who sabotaged themselves during early tournaments. For Thomas ‘Tommey’ Trewren, a member of 100 Thieves’ Warzone team, the new bug ruined a match during a monied tournament. He got destroyed by his teammate’s Bertha at one point, with said teammate subsequently getting squashed by his own helicopter moments later. The game just really doesn’t want us to win this tournament. pic.twitter.com/Sr7Sy9e4Hi — Tommey (@Tommey) May 20, 2021 As seen in the clip, Tommey gets on the back of his friend’s cargo truck (as squadmates usually do) and then explodes into a dead body alongside a pile of loot. But this issue isn’t just restricted to awkward interactions between trucks and walls, as other streamers quickly realized. During a casual stream, Diaz Biffle tried using his SUV to push teammate Repullze toward the loadout. Instead, the group of streamers could only laugh the pain away as Repullze was pushed straight into the Gulag. While some players wondered if this hyper-realistic mechanic was actually an intended feature, Raven Software have confirmed it’s a bug. ❗️ We are investigating an issue in #Warzone where players can be killed by vehicles that are operated by their teammates. https://t.co/a0gJPDP8Ix — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) May 21, 2021 Thanks to the martyrdom of these big streamers, and numerous surprising fans across social media, the developers are looking into the issue. At the moment, it remains unclear when a fix for this glitch will become available. So, for now, players should simply exercise an abundance of caution around friends who are driving vehicles — especially if those friends are prone to recklessness.

  • Warzone devs instantly nerf DMR after surprise Season 5 Reloaded buffs – Dexerto

Warzone devs instantly nerf DMR after surprise Season 5 Reloaded buffs ActivisionLess than 24 hours after Call of Duty: Warzone’s Season 5 Reloaded update dropped, devs have immediately adjusted the buffed DMR 14 — proactively nerfing the gun before it smashed back into meta. The Warzone Season 5 Reloaded patch notes included a buff to the DMR, which was expected to bring the once-notorious tactical rifle back into the meta. But Raven Software probably didn’t anticipate how quickly streamers would latch on. While the buff only tweaked recoil, that was the major component of its last nerf — meaning players immediately turned back to the DMR and began frying lobbies. So, rather than sitting on the situation and letting the meta play out, the devs have almost instantly nerfed it again, this time adjusting the damage profile. As you can see from Repullze’s clip, an SMG version of the DMR was immediately jumped on as soon as the new patch dropped. Much like the pre-nerf Type 63 secondary, streamers turned the thing into a deadly close-range beast. But, with Repullze calling the gun “broken” and others agreeing — Raven have gotten ahead of the curve and nerfed the tactical rifle. 🛠️ A #Warzone update is now live! Includes a Weapon adjustment and a few Bug Fixes. The Season Five Reloaded Patch Notes have been amended (see September 9th):https://t.co/XcL1OQvZVc pic.twitter.com/KElixVVReR — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) September 9, 2021 In the updated patch notes, the devs revealed that the DMR’s neck and upper torso multipliers have each been nerfed from 1.1 to 1.0. These changes are expected to tune the gun back down to a more reasonable level, while maintaining the recoil change. Since the Reloaded patch has been around for less than a day and the new DMR nerfs for even less than that, it’s unclear where the meta will go next. For now, players are still toying around with different loadouts and testing guns out — so we may have to wait and see how things shake up.

  • Warzone devs instantly disable Plunder 2XP after OP leveling bug found – Dexerto

Warzone devs instantly disable Plunder 2XP after OP leveling bug found ActivisionCall of Duty: Warzone fans were loving a new bug giving 4XP, but the devs are shutting it down. After less than a day, Pacific Plunder has been removed while the XP stacking glitch is investigated. This is why we can’t have nice things. Warzone fans found a bug that allowed them to stack 2XP tokens on top of the 2XP holiday weekend. They got excited, all stormed Plunder to level Vanguard guns, and eventually the buzz reached Raven Software. Now, in what might be one of the devs’ fastest patches ever, 2XP has been disabled in Plunder. Unsurprisingly, community response is… not pretty. While understanding that it was a bug, many were already frustrated by how long Vanguard’s guns take to level up and now they’re mad their early-holiday present was taken back. Warzone removes Plunder 2XP after leveling bug discovered ❗️ 2XP in Plunder has been temporarily disabled. Trello: https://t.co/B1NzKIpZDR — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) December 17, 2021 The Warzone Pacific holiday event launched at midnight on December 17 and people quickly figured out they could sneakily stack XP. But, after it got attention on Twitter, Raven Software flat-out disabled 2XP in Plunder within about seven hours. People aren’t just annoyed with the developers after the decision, though. Now, they’re even frustrated with the popular accounts who publicized the bug. Warzone players upset with devs and creators after 4XP bug removed No shot people are in my mentions actually angry that I pointed out a way to help everyone gain weapon XP faster? Just because you weren’t able to take advantage of it doesn’t mean that thousands of others weren’t. Also if I didn’t post about it somebody else SURELY would have. pic.twitter.com/9TE3crb8GL — ModernWarzone (@ModernWarzone) December 17, 2021 The top-liked reply on Raven’s software tweet summed up many fans’ sentiments: “it’s like you don’t want people to enjoy the game.” But some of those annoyances have spread to accounts like ModernWarzone. After they told everyone to use the bug to level their guns, people are complaining that it had existed in secrecy for months and shouldn’t have been publicized. But what’s done is done. At least there’s still a 2XP weekend to grind with.

  • Warzone devs admit anti-cheat detection issue as Xbox Game Pass cheaters ramp up – Dexerto

Warzone devs admit anti-cheat detection issue as Xbox Game Pass cheaters ramp up ActivisionThe Warzone devs have responded to players claiming that the battle royale is “unplayable” due to a raft of cheaters flooding the game with the new Xbox Game Pass exploit. Warzone has had it’s fair share of issues with cheaters over the last few years, but they’ve ramped up another notch recently. With Modern Warfare 3 now being available on Xbox Game Pass, PC players are now able to be flagged in-game as console players instead, through Game Pass Ultimate. Non-cheat users have complained that hackers have been using this method as a way to hide themselves and not be detected by the RICOCHET anti-cheat. As a result of this, many fans have called the game “unplayable” in Season 5, prompting them to leave Warzone alone until the issues are fully rooted out. Well, the RICOCHET anti-cheat team has been at work to try and get things ironed out. “RICOCHET Anti-Cheat resolved an issue with a detection system over the weekend, which resulted in a spike in cheater reports. For clarity, #TeamRICHOCHET is able to detect the specific platform for all users, despite how they may appear in-game,” the devs said on July 29. “If you suspect a player in your lobby is cheating, regardless of platform, we recommend you submit a report in-game for further investigation. We remain committed to combating cheaters, shutting down cheat vendors, and providing our players a fair and fun experience.” Some players quickly jumped on the devs’ statement, urging them to wipe the leaderboards in Ranked of any cheaters. “Can we get the cheaters wiped out of the top 250 please,” one asked. “Please investigate ranked leaderboards more thoroughly and large majority are hacking blatantly,” another replied. Others asked if the devs can update the game so that the PC players no longer have the console symbol. “So are you gonna have an update that fixes a game pass player looking like they’re playing on Xbox?” It remains to be seen if the wave of new cheaters starts to die down off the back of this, and while players clearly still want more to be done, Activision has still been shutting down cheat sellers.

  • Warzone devs hints at NZ-41 nerf after it becomes Season 4’s most used weapon – Dexerto

Warzone devs hints at NZ-41 nerf after it becomes Season 4’s most used weapon ActivisionA Raven developer working on Call of Duty: Warzone has hinted that the NZ-41, fast emerging as a fan favorite weapon in Season 4, is set for a nerf in the near future. As is the case with any battle royale, weapons peak and trough in popularity, generally doing so around updates from developers designed to shake up the weapon meta. That was again the case with Warzone Season 4, which brought a host of buffs and nerfs to the CoD BR’s weapon pool when it dropped on June 22. One weapon that received a number of changes through adjustments to its attachments was the NZ-41, a gun that ascended to infamy during Season 3. Changes to its strength in Season 4’s update have made it even more popular, comfortably in the top 5 most used Warzone weapons. According to one Raven dev, though, that could be about to change. Some fans were confused when Season 4 dropped and, if anything, strengthened the already powerful NZ-41. For example, plenty of its recoil controlling attachments were buffed to make kick easier to control. It appears that the changes will be short-lived though, with a Raven dev commenting on June 25 that it has come out more powerful than anticipated. While they did not explicitly state a nerf is on the way, the acceptance that it has been made too strong hints towards a future nerf. Tully Auckland, a senior game designer at Raven, said: “Agreed, it’s not where I’d like it to be right now. There are weapons designed to be easy to use, the NZ isn’t one of them.” In a second tweet, he elaborated: “the NZ shouldn’t be one of [the easiest weapons to use], I agree. We over indexed on the enhancements to make it viable.” There are weapons that are designed to be very easy to use but the NZ shouldn’t be one of them I agree. We over indexed on the enhancements to make it viable. — Tully Ackland (@TullyAckland) June 25, 2022 In short, some weapons are supposed to be easy to control, but will often have weaknesses elsewhere (like low damage) to keep them balanced. In its current version, the NZ-41 is an all-round behemoth with no tangible weaknesses. A nerf, therefore, seems definite. When it does, we’ll be the first to break it down for you.

  • Warzone devs hint at huge change coming to loadout drop prices – Dexerto

Warzone devs hint at huge change coming to loadout drop prices ActivisionWarzone developers Raven Software have hinted that huge changes could be coming to the price of loadout drops in Season 5, as the game gears up to enter its final weeks before Warzone 2 drops. The Loadout Drop is one of the most important parts of Warzone. If you want to have any hope of winning, building out the best loadout is imperative — but it’ll set you back $10k, so it’s not always the easiest to get without utilizing the free loadout at the start of the game. This is especially difficult as the game progresses. You get to a certain point in the game where you’re coming back from the Gulag, you need to regain and you know it’s not safe to drop on your weapons from where you died. For that reason, Raven have hinted at implementing the Titanium Trials loadout changes, which see the loadout price drop after each circle closes, making it gradually easier as the game progresses to buy one. Better yet, they’re giving players the chance to vote on the chance to find out whether it’s something they want — and the voting is heavily in favor of the change. At the time of writing, 75% of voters say that they want the gradual loadout changes to come to regular BR in Warzone. While this doesn’t mean the change will definitely be implemented, it certainly points toward Raven wanting to hear players’ opinions, and they’ll likely take action based on the impassioned responses to this.

  • Warzone devs grow by 50% after hiring from Fortnite, Apex Legends, Far Cry studios – Dexerto

Warzone devs grow by 50% after hiring from Fortnite, Apex Legends, Far Cry studios Epic Games / Activision / UbisoftCall of Duty: Warzone’s principal studio, Raven Software, has grown by at least 50% as recent reports show the devs have acquired new employees with experience in Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Far Cry. Warzone released in March 2020 and has continued to grow in the year since, quickly erupting as one of the biggest battle royales in the world. In order to keep pace with that progress, Activision have apparently gone on a hiring spree — adding a number of devs to Raven’s team. As far as Warzone goes, the game runs on Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare engine, uses assets from Treyarch’s Black Ops Cold War, and everything is facilitated by Raven. With Sledgehammer Games’ Vanguard expected in 2021, even more chefs enter the kitchen. To help Raven maintain Warzone’s trajectory, the team has reportedly been grown by 50% in the past year. Of note, they have hired employees from three industry-renowned studios: Epic Games, Respawn Entertainment, and Ubisoft. As VGC’s Andy Robinson reports, since August 2020, Raven have brought in around 12 producers, 40 programmers and testers, 30 artists and animators, as well as other positions. Additionally, 40 more positions are open for hiring. Of the newcomers, the most prominent are likely Creative Director Ted Timmins (who worked on Far Cry 6) and Senior Production Director William Fine (who worked on Fortnite). Other hires come from studios like Respawn, Rockstar, EA, Bungie, and more. While it’s always good to add manpower, the sources of these hires are intriguing. Warzone players have long hoped for three principal features: an effective anti-cheat, a ranked playlist, and a new map. It’s hard to ignore Raven’s new experience with those features — as Fortnite is known for having a strong BR anti-cheat, Apex Legends has a BR ranked playlist, and Far Cry is a franchise known for robust world-building. Time will tell if bringing on people from studios experienced in those features will actually help, but one thing is clear: the Warzone community is expanding and so are its demands, so Activision are trying to keep up.

  • Warzone devs flex upcoming anti-cheat in cheeky Vanguard easter egg – Dexerto

Warzone devs flex upcoming anti-cheat in cheeky Vanguard easter egg ActivisionCall of Duty’s developers seem very confident in Warzone’s upcoming anti-cheat system — as the studio snuck a bold easter egg into their trailer while revealing Vanguard’s integration plans. Multiple studios have been involved in Warzone, CoD’s battle royale, since release. It was built on Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2019 engine, then handed over for management by Raven Software, who helped integrate the game with Treyarch’s Black Ops Cold War. And through all that time, Verdansk has, and has continued to be, a safe haven for hackers. A working anti-cheat has been on the top of most streamers and players’ wishlists for a long while now, right alongside a new map. And it turns out, with Sledgehammer Games’ Vanguard, the CoD studios are confident that their upcoming anti-cheat will deliver. Didnt see this the 1st time I watched the trailer pic.twitter.com/5zK674FN6i — James – JGOD (@JGODYT) September 8, 2021 During the Vanguard multiplayer reveal, the devs shared some information about the anti-cheat plans. And, amplifying their confidence in the system, eagle-eyed fans noticed a literal ban hammer in the trailer. Now that might not seem like a substantial piece of information, but it does carry weight. With the failed efforts of hardware bans and website closures to completely nullify hackers, a lot is riding on the new anti-cheat. And, with how much CoD has been pushing hints and teasers, as well as full news, about the upcoming anti-cheat — the developers are simply raising expectations. And, in doing so, they’re putting pressure on themselves to meet said expectations. https://twitter.com/CallofDuty/status/1432765458172760065 All of this building hype can result in one of two things. Either the anti-cheat works admirably and hackers are erased from Warzone it fails and hackers continue to run around ruining games. With all of the effort CoD’s studios are putting into showing their confidence in the upcoming system, they’re simply making its efficiency a bigger deal. If it works, they’ll be applauded and player morale will skyrocket. If it doesn’t work, after all of this buildup? CoD social media might get ugly.

  • Warzone reload glitch finally fixed in May 8 update: Full patch notes – Dexerto

Warzone reload glitch finally fixed in May 8 update: Full patch notes ActivisonWarzone players are rejoicing as Raven Software has launched its May 8 update, fixing a game-breaking bug a week after the Season 3 Reloaded update. Season 3 Reloaded brought a bunch of new content and balance changes to Warzone, but it also unintentionally added a bug into the battle royale. Players noticed after the update downloaded that sometimes their reload animation would be interrupted by their Tactical Sprint, canceling the reload. The patch notes for the May 8 update that the developers say will fix the bug, along with a few others, have been released. They are as follows: Bug Fixes Fixed the issue causing automatic tactical sprint to interrupt attempts to reload a weapon. – Fixed an issue causing the Prioritize Interact setting on controllers to prevent players from reloading. – Fixed an issue preventing the host from starting a Private Match when over the player threshold. – Fixed an issue causing Squad members to see the incorrect ping on the Champion’s Quest contract. – Raven Software announced its intention to fix the reload bug in this update on May 7. Players, however, were not happy at the time, saying the developer was dragging its feet with the fix. “Holy crap I wasn’t expecting a fix for this so soon! Thank you guys for constantly surprising us with your hard work and passion for the game! I speak for everyone here when I say we do not deserve a company that treats us so well,” one commenter on social media sarcastically said about the update. Other commenters asked why Raven Software couldn’t just implement the change sooner, with one popular response saying if it was an issue with the game’s store the bug would have been fixed faster. “It’s been seven days for something that was completely fine before,” CoD content creator Whoh said. With the update shipped, players should no longer have to worry about the reload bug.

  • Warzone devs “fix” stuns for mouse and keyboard players – Dexerto

Warzone devs “fix” stuns for mouse and keyboard players ActivisionWarzone Season 5 Reloaded has finally arrived bringing tons of changes to the game. With PC players constantly complaining about stuns being overpowered with no counterplay it appears the devs may have secretly nerfed this tactical. Tacticals play a huge role in Warzone games. These can give players a huge advantage when pushing a team. While these can provide a huge advantage for using them, finding yourself on the other side can be quite frustrating. So much that players have been asking for nerfs and calling them “OP.” With all the complaints and comments on these recently, it appears that the devs have been listening and have made an improvement for players that get stunned. Warzone update fixes stuns for PC players For Warzone players using a Mouse & Keyboard on PC, there have been complaints that there is no counterplay to getting stunned. Players would not be able to move and it lasts forever. Read More: When is Warzone Season 6? – In a recent Twitter clip posted by Warzone creator IceManIsaac, shows off how this new change is benefiting M&K players. THEY FIXED STUNS FOR M&K PLAYERS!!!! 🥳 pic.twitter.com/zRbkboUVtC — Isaac (@IceManIsaac) September 11, 2021 Previously, mouse and keyboard players that were stunned would not be able to move at all and aim anywhere other than where they already were. With this change, IceManIsaac said he can move a lot more than before, allowing these players to actually have a chance in gunfights. While this is a step in the right direction, IceManIsaac referred people to a clip of Warzone player Almond, and how he was able to fry another player while stunned. In this clip, Almond was stunned but he was still able to absolutely smoke his opponent. Many people think he was only able to get this kill because of aim assist, something that only controller players have access to. M&K players are asking to be able to react to stuns the same way controller players can. Even though this new update makes it better for mouse and keyboard players after being stunned, there will always be a debate on controller versus M&K but Warzone devs are trying to balance out the two and make them fair.

  • Warzone devs fix finally fix audio issues in Dec 14 update – Dexerto

Warzone devs fix finally fix audio issues in Dec 14 update ActivisionWarzone is finally getting the audio fixes that fans have been clamoring for. Ever since the newest season of the game launched last week, players have been complaining about the audio in the game. From footsteps being an inconsistent volume to gunshots not coming from the proper direction, fans have felt the game’s competitive side has been hindered. Now, Activision has released a big update to the game, including fixes to these problems. Warzone’s audio problems are resolved The update, released on December 14th, has brought a ton of changes to the game, including Modern Warfare 3. These range from UI adjustments to gun balancing. These issues have been a sore spot for the community, and there was mounting frustration over the lack of fixes coming. The developers spoke to this delay in the blog post, saying: “When making changes such as this, there’s a complex variables we need to meticulously look at and consider.” It is clear that they have an extensive process with these things, but it hasn’t exactly assuaged every member of the community. On CharlieINTEL’s post about the fix, one user commented, saying: “how have they not realised how to make it work at this point when it’s been nearly 4 years.” Not every fan is going to be pleased, no matter when a fix or change is released, but there are plenty of fans who will see this as a good thing. There’s still plenty more to do with the game, as Warzone fans have other issues they’ve been vocal about.

  • Warzone devs fix “busted” Tyr Snakeshot in emergency MW3 patch – Dexerto

Warzone devs fix “busted” Tyr Snakeshot in emergency MW3 patch Activision BlizzardPlayers hopping into MW3’s Warzone noticed that Akimbo Tyrs with Snakeshot ammo were capable of consistently one-shotting people, leading to CoD’s devs deploying an emergency patch that removed the attachment entirely. There have been some very broken guns in Call of Duty‘s long history. Even as far back as the Akimbo 1887s, weapons that could one shot at long-range have been a pain point for players, and people aren’t fans of being one-shot without being able to react. And, with history naturally repeating itself, Akimbo Tyrs with Snakeshot rounds were discovered to be incredibly strong, so much so that players using the combo thought it may have been one of the most broken in CoD history. However, MW3’s devs have quickly stepped in and disabled Snakeshot on the Tyr in a move that may have saved the Warzone meta over the holidays. MW3 devs remove Tyr Snakeshot in emergency hotfix to save Warzone meta Weapon nerfs are pretty common in CoD as players figure out which weapon and attachment combos are the strongest. Even with an experienced dev team, it isn’t always possible for devs to sniff out the most broken combinations before players discover them. This became abundantly clear after players started abusing Snakeshot on Akimbo Tyrs to consistently one-shot their opponent in record time. Some players were fully wiping squads before they could even fire a shot. As a result, Raven have stepped in and made a balance adjustment that’s near-unprecedented for the CoD series: They removed Snakeshot entirely. While it’s still possible to use in private playlists and is still visible in-game, the attachment can’t be used at all in public matches. Snakeshot rounds have effectively been removed from both Warzone and MW3. “We are actively exploring ways to balance it in the future, in conjunction with other planned adjustments. We want everyone to enjoy themselves over the holidays… within reason.” stated Raven Software, the devs behind Warzone. The response from Warzone and MW3 players has been almost universal praise, with many already tired of the Tyr meta despite the weapon being meta for less than a day. It’s yet unclear when Snakeshot rounds will be re-enabled.

  • Warzone devs finally respond to “overpowered” Radar Jammers ruining matches – Dexerto

Warzone devs finally respond to “overpowered” Radar Jammers ruining matches ActivisionWarzone players have hit out at Raven Software once again, this time requesting for the Radar Jammers to be removed from the game, prompting a response from the devs. While the recent Season 3 Reloaded update brought a ton of new additions, changes, and quality of life updates to Warzone, fans are still upset with certain aspects of the popular battle royale. This time, players have slammed the Radar Jammers, which are primarily problematic on Rebirth Island, given just how much of the map they are able to cover. While many have straight-up requested the removal of the field upgrade entirely, the devs have revealed that nerfs are on the way. In a May 27 Reddit thread, a Warzone fan hit out at the field upgrade, in what they claim was a “terrible addition” to the game. “They seemed like a good idea at first, but wow do I hate them,” said the fan. “First of all they are up constantly and take up too big of an area. It’s not like a somewhat rare thing, they are literally up all the time,” they added. “Secondly, it defeats one of the biggest attractions about Rebirth. When you full kill an enemy, their entire team pings on the map. Now you can’t see them if a jammer is up. Many were quick to agree, with one fan replying: “They are especially overpowered in Rebirth. It covers so much of the map. Let’s see how long until Raven removes them if they remove them.” However, as it turns out, the devs have other ideas in mind and won’t be removing the Radar Jammers, and instead will be nerfing them. “The team is super aware, and we’re working on a fix to improve the player experience,” the developers tweeted in response to complaints. Hey there! The team is super aware of that, and we’re working on a fix to improve the player experience. Stay tuned 🤙 — BeenoxCODPC (@BeenoxCODPC) May 26, 2022 While there’s no timeline on when we can expect an update to the Radar Jammers, rest assured we know it’s on the way. Hopefully, it’s sooner rather than later so we can get back to enjoying Rebirth Island.

  • Warzone devs finally respond to calls for streamer mode fixes – Dexerto

Warzone devs finally respond to calls for streamer mode fixes ActivisionRaven Software have finally responded to calls from Warzone players to fix the streamer mode setting in a bid to stop content creators being savaged by stream snipers and trolls. Just like with any other game, Warzone content creators do have to deal with constant stream snipers and trolls ruining their game just for a few seconds, or minutes, of fame. While Warzone has a streamer mode setting, there have been plenty of complaints about its effectiveness, with plenty of streamers saying it is flat out “broken” and doesn’t help one bit in matches. There have been plenty of calls for Raven to fix the setting, with creators noting that it’s not that hard to do. So, the battle royale developers have finally spoken out about what they could do. On May 13, NRG’s Joe ‘JoeWo’ Wohala again called on Raven to address the streamer mode in their next update as he believed it would help the “smoothness” of Warzone games. The developers fired back a few hours after his tweet, saying: “We’re listening. What kind of improvements would you ideally like to see to the current “Streamer Mode” setting? Best, a studio.” They also followed it up by asking 100 Thieves’ Thomas ‘Tommey’ Trewren if he had any ideas, seeing as he’s been at the forefront of making calls to get the setting fixed. Again, the former Call of Duty pro suggested a handful of changes, including the option to make it so streamers’ names are actually hidden in-game without having to blank out the whole lobby. Others suggested that this might give hackers and cheaters more freedom to run riot, especially in tournaments, but that’s a bridge for Raven to cross when they get around to changes.

  • Warzone devs finally resolve 9mm Daemon akimbo glitch – Dexerto

Warzone devs finally resolve 9mm Daemon akimbo glitch ActivisionWarzone suffered from a glitch that prevented players from equipping the akimbo attachment on the 9mm Daemon. After weeks of waiting, the devs finally addressed the issue. Akimbo pistols briefly took over Warzone’s meta in Season 1, but a nerf knocked them back out of relevance. Ashika Island and Vondel brought sidearms back into the spotlight thanks to their layout. Both Resurgence maps feature large waterways, and as is well documented, only pistols can fire underwater. Players have leaned toward using the FTAC Siege for water combat, but the Warzone devs shook up the meta by introducing a new pistol in Season 5 Reloaded. Infinity Ward revealed that the 9mm Daemon “features best-in-class semi-automatic fire rate.” The pistol performs closely to the P890 and X12 with a slower fire rate but harder-hitting damage. The 9mm Daemon has yet to really make a splash, as the devs may have originally intended, but that is all about to change. Surprise update fixes 9mm Daemon glitch Previously, even if a player reached the required to unlock the 9mm Daemon akimbo attachment, a bug kept it locked. Fortuntaley, on September 8, the Warzone devs announced: “We’ve released an update that fixes an issue where Akimbo was not unlocking on the 9mm Daemon for Players who had met the unlock requirements.” Community members celebrated the announcement but also questioned why it took so long to fix. A Lara Croft operator bundle comes out on September 9, and some players believe that the devs only fixed the bug because she uses akimbo pistols. Adding fuel to the fire of that claim, one user responded: “The day before Lara Croft, y’all had to get it fixed.” Other players added: “Took you long enough,” and “it was about time.” After the update, it remains to be seen if the pistol will be a close-range meta weapon. But if you need a class, make sure to check our best 9mm Daemon Warzone loadout.

  • Warzone devs finally nerf radar jammers after complaints – Dexerto

Warzone devs finally nerf radar jammers after complaints Radar jammer is a controversial field upgrade deemed “overpowered” by the Warzone community. Raven Software heard the complaints and finally announced a nerf. Radar Jammers scramble mini-maps for 45 seconds and had a radius of 125 meters before the update. Players within the radius cannot use killstreaks, heartbeat sensors, see the circle, or see teammate pings. The Season 4 update reduced the radar jammer drop rate, but players still believed its radius was too powerful. The radius issue affected players on Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep due to their smaller scale. Players can breathe a sigh of relief as the Warzone developers announced a reduction to the radar jammer’s radius. Raven Software confirmed a 20% reduction to the radar jammers’ radius on Fortune’s Keep and Rebirth Island. Warzone content creator and former professional player OpTic TeeP responded, “Raven, I am getting jammed way too often on the keep lately. Maybe think about reducing the drop rate; thanks.” Raven Software also stated that they would continue to monitor engagement and feedback. There could be additional updates to the radar jammer in the future.

Warzone devs finally nerf controversial guns after weeks of frustration WarzoneThe Warzone devs have finally released a patch to rebalance the MTZ Interceptor and WSP Swarm, and the community is rejoicing. Warzone is constantly having to balance and rebalance its weapons, as players find new ways to make a weapon OP and break the game. And for weeks, the game’s community has been clamoring for a rework of the MTZ Interceptor and WSP Swarm, which have been absolutely shredding opponents. That patch has finally released and a rebalance is here, and the fanbase seems to be extremely happy with it. Warzone reworks OP guns and fans are happy The patch was announced on the Call of Duty Updates X account, where they specified that they’ve reworked the stats for the MTZ Interceptor and WSP Swarm. They explain in the post that both the weapons have had their damage values reduced in various ways to accommodate the demands of the players. Looking into the specific notes for the patch, the damage reduction is across the board, with just about every damage-related category receiving some kind of reduction. The response from the community has been largely positive as well, with one user saying: “LETS GO, THANK YOU FOR THIS.” Another fan gave another resounding, “Y’all crushing it, holy.” Some players, though, are lamenting the nerfs as they have fallen in love with using one of the weapons. One person event comments: “Swarm lowkey was the only gun I was good with on Warzone.” Swarm lowkey was the only gun I was good with on warzone 😂 — BradNukes☢️ (@BradNukes) January 19, 2024 It isn’t a common occurrence for patches like this to be so overwhelmingly positive in their reception, but when guns have been terrorizing the Warzone community for so long, it makes sense in this case.

  • Warzone devs finally make audio changes after mass complaints – Dexerto

Warzone devs finally make audio changes after mass complaints ActivisionAfter weeks of complaints from Warzone players about audio issues in the Call of Duty battle royale, the devs have finally addressed the problem with several audio fixes and changes in the latest update. Audio has long been an issue in Warzone, dating back to when it was first released in March 2020 right up until now with the Modern Warfare 3 integration. While this usually comes in different forms, there have been a mass of serious complaints since said integration, in particular, with footstep audio and the lack of warning when an enemy player is dropping in on you. This was addressed in the Season 1 Reloaded patch notes on January 17, with the devs making a number of comments on audio in the game. They said: “Our audio team has been diligently working on making adjustments to the audio experience in Warzone. In addition to the changes outlined below, we are actively exploring further improvements, with some planned for parachutes in an upcoming season.” Here are the changes that were made in the update: Audio Occlusion Improvements have been made to audio occlusion on Urzikstan. – – Plane Audio Adjustments have been made to the audio on the Infil/Exfil airplane. – – Music Channels Adjusted cinematic music so that it is no longer entirely on gameplay channels, rather than cine. – – Allied Sounds Reduced the volume of friendly Slides, Jumps and Lands to better distinguish between friendly and enemy behavior. – – While much of these changes and fixes were celebrated, as the game moves towards having much better audio, there is concern that the parachute audio has failed to been addressed in this update, especially as it won’t be available until an “upcoming season.” At earliest, that could mean parachute audio fixes in Season 2, which is expected to start on February 7.

  • Warzone devs are finally working on fixing Ghost perk glitch ruining games – Dexerto

Warzone devs are finally working on fixing Ghost perk glitch ruining games ActivisionThe Ghost perk hasn’t been working as intended in Warzone Season 6 but developers at Raven Software are now well aware of the issue and finally looking to deploy a fix in an upcoming update. As far as Perks go in Warzone, there’s no question Ghost is one of the most important in the Call of Duty battle royale today. It’s been a popular loadout choice from day one as UAV spam continues to be the most effective strategy. Ghost intends to counteract these UAVs by hiding your location on the minimap. Although it did just that for much of Warzone’s first 19 months, the Perk started to fall apart in recent updates. First noticed back in July, a viral TikTok from Warzone streamer Jessie Cooks revealed how Ghost wasn’t actually obscuring her team. This became a prevalent issue in custom games specifically, before spreading to public matches following the Season 6 update. Thankfully, Raven Software is finally on the case and a fix is in the works. “An issue has been identified with the Ghost Perk not functioning correctly in Private Matches,” Raven Software addressed on October 22. Not only is a “fix in the works” for the custom game side of Warzone, but a follow-up shortly after confirmed this fix will apply to “Public Matches” as well. The official Call of Duty Trello board confirmed that a fix is already scheduled. Therefore, it’s safe to expect we’ll see Ghost working as intended as soon as the next update arrives. Read More: Warzone Season 6 Battle Pass – Warzone’s latest patch only just landed on October 18. It’s fair to assume a fresh download will be available in the coming days with this resolution bundled in. ❗️ An issue has been identified with the Ghost Perk not functioning correctly in Private Matches. We have a fix in the works! Trello Card: https://t.co/5a2QbBhqNa — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) October 21, 2021 For the time being, however, Ghost is still going to be problematic in both private and public lobbies. So even with the Perk equipped in your loadout, be extra careful when enemy UAVs are flying overhead. Although it may appear that your location is being masked, that may not be the case. In fact, there’s every chance a team is tracking you down with your precise whereabouts. If anything, it might be worth looking into some alternative options from our Best Warzone Perksoptions until Ghost is fixed once and for all.

  • Warzone devs finally confirm Renetti nerfs after community backlash – Dexerto

Warzone devs finally confirm Renetti nerfs after community backlash ActivisionWarzone fans were shocked to see the Renetti not get a nerf in the latest update, prompting the devs to address that the gun is going to be looked at. The newest update to Warzone saw a handful of changes being made to the game, but players were not thrilled to see the Renetti not getting a nerf. The Renetti has been dominating the meta of the game recently, causing players to wonder how a secondary weapon could outclass so many primary weapons available. Their dislike for the current meta – and their complaints about it not being addressed in the update – are prompting the devs to address the issue. When the update was announced on social media, the response was immediately directed towards the Renetti. One user made their thoughts clear, saying: “Was it a typo that I didn’t see a Renetti nerf?” Another player asks the devs: “Just listen to your player base one time…” This led to Raven Software announcing they are working on “adjustments” to the Renetti that will be released “in the near future.” This has Warzone players excited, calling the changes “amazing” and a “W!” However, others are more frustrated that it hasn’t been fixed yet. As one person asks: “We understand, but is it really that hard to change the base damage amount per bullet down 2 or 3 points?” One player seems to be fed up with the game and the frequency with which changes are being rolled out, saying, “Tbh we heard this before and it still took forever to nerf. All you have to do is disable the aftermarket attachment until you nerf it.” What these changes are, and how the Warzone fanbase will react to them, remains to be seen. Players will just have to wait and see what happens when those changes are officially rolled out.

  • Warzone devs finally change Vondel’s most annoying feature – Dexerto

Warzone devs finally change Vondel’s most annoying feature ActivisionWarzone developer Raven Software has implemented a long-awaited change to Vondel that fixes one of the most common complaints about the divisive Resurgence map. Warzone Season 2 is here introducing a range of changes to the Call of Duty’s popular battle royale. Most notably, the return of the classic Fortune’s Keep map and the addition of a competitive Ranked Play playlist for players to grind. It isn’t just the big changes that should have the community excited though with some smaller updates being introduced that could also make a massive difference. Especially for those who prefer playing Resurgence over the slower-paced battle royale modes. This latest update sees Vondel undergo a huge change that addresses one of the Warzone community’s biggest problems with the Netherlands-based map that was first introduced in June 2023. Vondel’s fog has been reduced As detailed in the Warzone Season 2 patch notes, Vondel has had its fog frequency reduced to improve visibility and make it easier to see. This will change how often Vondel’s Dynamic Fog System triggers from 24% to 8% of games played, greatly decreasing how often it will appear on the Resurgence map. Activision’s original justification for the Dynamic Fog System was that Vondel’s location makes it subject to “certain inclement conditions,” that could create “new gameplay opportunities,” originally designed with the now dropped DMZ game mode in mind but also impacting Warzone. Raven Software quickly tweaked this feature back in Warzone 2 Season 4 with them previously reducing the chance of fog appearing on Vondel. It would appear that the initial change was not enough though with a more significant adjustment now following in the new season.

  • Warzone devs finally address audio issues with major improvements – Dexerto

Warzone devs finally address audio issues with major improvements ActivisionAudio’s been a pain point in Warzone for some time, and Season 2’s update looks to address a few concerns players have. Since its release in 2020, audio has been a consistent issue in Warzone. Four years later, the issues are still persistent, if not seemingly worse, especially after MW3’s integration with the battle royale. Numerous updates have tried to quell player concerns, such as the Season 1 Reloaded patch addressing audio occlusion, plane audio, and more, yet these changes didn’t address everything. Season 2’s update is finally here, bringing a handful of adjustments for Warzone players that hopefully address some community pains. Warzone Season 2 makes improvements to in-game audio As part of Warzone’s Season 2 update, the following changes have been implemented, as part of an attempt to “see a continued effort in improving threat-based in-game audio”: Ascenders Audible distance and volume increased. – – Parachute Audible distance and volume increased. – Removed environmental sounds that could be misconstrued as parachutes. – Reduced enemy parachute occlusion while firing a weapon. – – Enemy Redeploy Drone Players will now hear the intended VO when enemies are landing in their vicinity after using a Redeploy Drone. – – So far, the changes have been welcomed by the community, particularly the parachute adjustment. Interestingly, the Flex Perk received an audio adjustment as part of the Season 2 patch. It’s still to be determined the impact of the adjustment, however. Raven Software and Sledgehammer Games will certainly keep their ears to the forums in an attempt to remedy Warzone concerns. Season 2 has seen a bit of clarity in the form of a massive rework of ADS and hipfire sway.

  • Warzone devs finally address annoying slide camera bug in Season 3 – Dexerto

Warzone devs finally address annoying slide camera bug in Season 3 ActivisionThe long-standing and extremely frustrating slide camera lock bug is finally being addressed in Warzone, with developers Raven Software confirming plans to fix it in Season 3. Warzone has been no stranger to bugs and glitches of all different types in the two years since it was released. The most notable examples include the stim glitch and the ‘demon gun’ glitch, both of which have run rampant at several different time periods throughout Warzone’s history. One slightly more minor bug, though, that has frustrated players for months on end, is the slide camera lock, making certain gunfights significantly more difficult. Most Warzone players will have experienced it one time or another; you slide, and if you go down even the slightest of slopes, your camera locks in place, meaning you can’t aim at any surrounding enemies. With how imperative sliding is in Warzone, slide canceling being an important part of the movement mechanics in the game, this has ruined many a gunfight and lost countless players’ games that they could have been frying in. In the Season 3 patch notes, the devs finally addressed the issue, saying “We have heard from our community that the camera lock that can occasionally happen while sliding down a vertical descent can be frustrating and lead to a negative outcome in a combat encounter. We are pleased to announce that this will be addressed soon.” While there is no timeframe provided for a fix, this will be music to the ears of Warzone players who have found themselves losing one too many times as a result of this glitch. Expect a fix to be implemented in Season 3 and, before long, you could be flying down staircases and getting squad wipes as you go.

  • Warzone devs explain why they can’t use some weapon names in patch notes – Dexerto

Warzone devs explain why they can’t use some weapon names in patch notes ActivisionA slight Warzone annoyance is not knowing the names of some weapons affected by changes in patch notes – yet, developers have finally divulged details on the strange lack of clarity. Warzone’s Season 4 Reloaded update massively rebalanced the Warzone meta. The only problem was nobody knew what nerfs to Assault Rifle Charlie meant without doing some additional research. Even in the Warzone store, players don’t know what weapon skins they are buying for some weapons if they aren’t sure of the gun’s appearance. Activision uses generic names like Submachine gun Alpha for certain weapon camos. Warzone players have accepted the oddity as standard practice, but two developers finally opened up about the issue. Warzone devs reveal the reason behind vague weapon names CoD content creator XVI asked the Warzone developers to “shed light” on using generic weapon names instead of universally recognizable ones. Matt Scronce, Treyarch Design Associate Director, responded, “legal and licensing reasons that are outside of my wheelhouse. I don’t like it any more than you do.” Sledgehammer Game’s Communications Manager, Sam Leichtamer, responded, “I agree it’s very confusing for us too, but for legal reasons, we can’t.” Warzone players did not take the clarification well. One player argued, “With some of the blueprints in the shop, you genuinely cannot tell what gun it is, and you have to match it up with the name and check three to four times to be sure.” Another user stated, “It’s seriously such a simple fix, and yet it went over the heads of three entire studios.” Hopefully, Modern Warfare 2 finds a way around CoD’s weapon licensing issues, yet it looks unlikely based on these tweets.

  • Warzone devs explain why console will not be receiving an FOV Slider – Dexerto

Warzone devs explain why console will not be receiving an FOV Slider Activision / PixabayCall of Duty: Warzone’s developers have finally broken down the console FOV Slider situation. During a private briefing, the devs explained why console will, as many worried, not be receiving an FOV Slider. There’s been a lot of debates within the CoD community about the problems balancing console and PC in cross-play. Although console players comprise around 70% of the player base, they don’t have an FOV Slider and often deal with an unplayable mess of bugs and glitches. For months, gamers on PS4, PS5, and Xbox have complained about the fact they can’t change their in-game field of view. While PC streamers are able to use FOV tricks, the console community have been stuck simply marveling at the slider’s benefits. Now, following a private meeting with content creators, there’s unideal news for those FOV-restricted players. Warzone devs confirm console will not receive an FOV Slider In regards to FOV slider, they further said that “”we want everyone to have fun”” and “”adding FOV to PC sorta opened this Pandora Box”” of console players wanting it. Internal testing just showed if they added it, they might as well call it a ‘how to drop framerate slider.’ — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) February 11, 2022 In a blog post, CoD’s makers explained that adding an FOV Slider “creates major performance impacts for old gen console players.” As such, to avoid those issues, they “do not plan to implement an FOV Slider on console at this time.” In an explanation to the creators, they elaborated that giving console players an FOV Slider would essentially equate to a ‘how to drop framerate slider.’ Developers also confirmed that last-gen consoles are currently the biggest player base. For FOV, when asked “”why not next-gen FOV slider?”” they said: “”we don’t want to further increase the skill gap.”” Also said “”FOV slider benefits high skilled players mainly”” — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) February 11, 2022 Going further, the devs said that – while an FOV Slider might not impact next-gen systems as negatively – they “don’t want to further increase the skill gap.” In response, players are already critical of this defense. One user laughed at the “skill gap” comment: “here’s literally PC players in our lobbies LMFAOOOO.” While it’s understandable that an FOV Slider wouldn’t be added due to technical limitations, the “skill gap” argument isn’t working for console players. If anything, it likely contributes to a longstanding opinion – that Warzone needs console-only cross-play.

  • Warzone devs explain reasons behind controversial playlist decisions – Dexerto

Warzone devs explain reasons behind controversial playlist decisions ActivisionWarzone’s playlist is constantly changing and the community has expressed their disapproval toward many of the decisions made. So, the devs have cleared the air and explained their rationale. There are many game modes that float around in the Warzone pool. While each gets their time in the spotlight, some get more than others. Ones like Vanguard Royale and Rebirth Resurgence Trios are among the most popular in the game, but on a couple occasions they have been left off the weekly playlist. When that happened, the community went at Raven Software’s throats demanding immediate changes. Following all the backlash since the start of Season 1, the devs have cleared the air and explained their thought process on the weekly playlist. Warzone devs explain playlist decisions With #Warzone Season 2 around the corner, we want to shed some light on how we design our Playlists! With all the unique modes, and much more to come, we look forward to your continued feedback as we curate the best possible experiences for all of you!https://t.co/7GpdeuVPTf — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) February 3, 2022 In a blog post, Raven Software wanted to clarify the process on how the team puts together the weekly Warzone playlist. They said that, with over 100 million players, they try to balance out three aspects: motivation, engagement, and squad sizes. Further, they dove into player motivation – as people who may love Plunder but have different feelings toward Rebirth, and vice versa. By introducing different modes, it helps devs figure out which are getting the most attention so they can either keep or bring them back in future updates. Warzone’s devs also said that new modes allow the old ones to stay fresh and keep a healthy player count across all of the games. While some modes are kept the same at the core, they experiment with different party sizes so the community can help dictate the best fit for each. By rotating this every week, it brings players back as they wait patiently for their favorite mode to return (if taken out) or lets them discover something else that they could like more. The team also outlined their plan for Season 2, which includes bringing new modes to Warzone as well as weekly updates which could feature things like Iron Trials. Overall, it seems that the devs are open to sharing their methods and want fans to continue to give them feedback.

  • Warzone devs explain map destruction on updated Rebirth Island – Dexerto

Warzone devs explain map destruction on updated Rebirth Island ActivisionAfter the community expressed their concern over changes to Rebirth Island seen in the new trailer for Warzone’s Season 3, the devs have clarified what can be destroyed. Warzone fans don’t need to fret, as the devs have revealed that map destruction will be a smaller-scale event than originally thought. The new trailer for the rerelease of Rebirth Island to commemorate Season 3’s launch showed the Prison area in ruins. This led many players to wonder if the map was completely changed or if environments could be destroyed throughout a match. The dev team was quick to address these concerns by releasing a statement on social media to clarify how environmental destruction will work. As they explain, “Later into the season, players will have a rare chance to encounter Infil Strikes. These are a set of dynamic events that will alter one of three possible POIs at random at the very start of a match.” What this amounts to is that only specific locations can be altered, and these events won’t have a larger impact on the greater map. The Warzone community seems very happy to hear this news, with one user responding to the statement saying: “W, thank you for clarifying!” Another fan thanked the devs for responding to the community so quickly, calling their communication “fast and simple.” On the Warzone subreddit, one player even wishes this kind of system was applied to another one of the game’s modes: “Why couldn’t they just add this to Fortune’s Keep instead of changing the map?!” It’s certainly a new way of doing things in Warzone, and it seems the player base is excited to see what kind of experiences it can bring.

  • Warzone devs end COR-45 and Renetti’s reign of terror with bugfix patch – Dexerto

Warzone devs end COR-45 and Renetti’s reign of terror with bugfix patch ActivisionThe COR-45 and Renetti became the fastest killing weapons in Warzone because of an exploit, forcing Raven Software to respond. On Aug. 14, CoD content creator JGOD uncovered a glitch that enabled the COR-45 XRK IP-V2 Conversion Kit to be equipped on Akimbo weapons. First introduced in Season 4, the XRK IP-V2 gives the COR-45 a binary trigger, transforming the pistol into a hybrid semi-auto SMG with an increased fire rate. The Conversion Kit is widely regarded as one of the best in the game, and it isn’t supposed to have an Akimbo attachment. So, when players discovered a loophole that made it possible to dual-wield the conversion kit, it became one of the fastest time-to-kill speed weapons in Warzone history. That trouble doubled when users learned they could also pull off the exploit with the Renetti pistols. Raven Software caught wind of the trend and patched both exploits. Before the update, CoD content creator ZLaner showed the devastating pistols in action. Without either weapon being a viable option anymore, it raises the question of what will be the best short-range meta option moving forward. Since the Superi suffered a second consecutive nerf that decreased it’s minimum and short-range damage values as part of the Aug. 6 update, that took the SMG out of the running. This leaves the Static-HV as the frontrunner. The new Season 5 weapon features a fast fire rate and a large magazine, making it a threat in short and medium-range engagements. In addition, the Static-HV boasts one of the best TTKs on offer. According to WZ Ranked, the SMG is the most popular weapon in the battle royale, leading the rest of the pack with a staggering 24.5 percent pick rate. The next most popular SMG, the AMR9, only has a six percent pick rate. However, if you want a different weapon to replace the COR-45 and Renetti, check out our guide on the best loadouts in Season 5.

  • Warzone devs double down on controversial ADS changes despite player backlash – Dexerto

Warzone devs double down on controversial ADS changes despite player backlash ActivisionWarzone developers at Raven Software have doubled down on a commitment to nerfing ADS speed across the board, despite near-unanimous backlash from pros and top streamers. Three days ago Raven Software announced plans to increase Warzone’s Time To Kill (TTK). Typically, this means weapon damage nerfs or health increases are rolled out. Though this time around, the devs detailed new ADS changes instead. Rather than tweaking the obvious stats, Raven aims to “decrease base ADS speeds” across every weapon category. The idea of making it slower to aim your weapon was quickly met with backlash online. Despite many labeling it the “stupidest idea” and calling it a “step backward,” the devs appear committed. Now, they’ve since doubled down with further details on these upcoming ADS changes in Warzone. As mentioned before, we will be decreasing base ADS Speeds across all titles. This will increase Time to Kill slightly as ADS times should be considered when calculating practical TTK values. Additionally, it’ll give us room to emphasize the differences between Weapon classes. — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) January 8, 2022 With almost every weapon set to be affected by this blanket change, Raven first clarified just how it’ll work. “We’re looking to increase the average by about 20ms,” the devs explained. While some weapons may escape this fate by default, attachments are also in line for ADS adjustments to cover more ground. For example, if your favorite Assault Rifle remains unscathed, there’s a good chance its best attachments may soon lower its ADS potential instead. “In most cases, we will be taking that ADS speed and leveraging it in attachments to create more interesting builds and meaningful choices.” Thus, having a rapid ADS loadout may soon take away from damage, accuracy, or other vital stats. This sweeping Warzone change comes as a result of ‘blurred lines’ between weapon categories, according to Raven. Where previously Assault Rifles would serve as mid to long-range builds, for instance, many options can now be considered as top-tier SMG-style loadouts. “This is unhealthy for the game in the long term,” they warned. “Not just because it can result in ‘power creep’ but also because it limits our design space for new weapons.” Primarily, we are concerned that some Weapons are functionally blurring the lines between SMG, AR, and LMG. This is unhealthy for the game in the long term not just because it can result in ‘power creep’ but also because it limits our design space for new Weapons. — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) January 12, 2022 There’s no telling how soon these ADS changes may be implemented in Warzone. They could be crammed into this week’s Season 1 Reloaded patch, or they might still be a while off yet. We’re sure to learn more about Raven’s plans over the coming days, however. Keep your eyes peeled for further details in the near future.

  • Warzone devs disable vehicles on Rebirth Island in response to vault glitch – Dexerto

Warzone devs disable vehicles on Rebirth Island in response to vault glitch ActivisionAs the Warzone community continues to access the Golden Vaults through a glitch, Raven Software have temporarily disabled all vehicles on Rebirth Island. With the Warzone Season 2 Reloaded update, Rebirth received the largest revamp since it’s release. From new POIs to the Community Challenges, plenty of focus has been shifted to the island. Part of the rewards for doing these tasks have granted players with loads of XP, the Weapon Trade Stations, and much more. The current challenge players are on requires them to collect $40 trillion in Blood Money on Rebirth to access the Golden Vaults. However, players discovered a glitch that allowed them to get inside of these locked locations, and now Raven Software is turning off vehicles so the exploit can’t be used. Warzone disables vehicles on Rebirth ❗️ We have temporarily disabled vehicles on Rebirth Island while we investigate an issue. — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) April 11, 2022 On April 11, Raven Software became aware of a an issue and made the decision to disable all vehicles on Rebirth while they “investigate an issue.” Players were quick to point out that this is likely off the back of a glitch that was discovered allowing people to throw themselves into the locked Golden Vaults. To perform this exploit, you needed to stand in front of the door, have a teammate find a car, then proceed to drive it at full speed and hit you. This would generate enough force and would throw your character into the locked location. While Raven did not confirm that this was the exact reason why, nearly every player in the comments is certain this is the cause. Known leaker, TheGhostOfHope was one of many to point this out. You can say it’s cause they’re being used to glitch into the bunkers. — Hope (@TheGhostOfHope) April 11, 2022 At the time of writing, there is no timetable for when vehicles will be turned back on for Rebirth, but players are excited to see how the game plays without them.

  • Warzone devs nerf Lockwood 300 after OP Doom shotgun runs riot again – Dexerto

Warzone devs nerf Lockwood 300 after OP Doom shotgun runs riot again ActivisionThe Warzone devs have, once again, nerfed the Lockwood 300 – otherwise known as the Doom shotgun – by disabling the Dual Trigger that makes it so overpowered. And, well, fans are delighted. Warzone has always had its share of overpowered deadly weapons, stemming all the way back to the original DMR, busted Mac-10 blueprint, Snakeshot akimbo pistols, and the Cronen Squall. In recent weeks, the Lockwood 300 shotgun has stepped up to put those all to shame. The shotgun was made so popular because of its capability to one-shot enemies at all sorts of ranges, especially after the Doom bundle was released. The Lockwood had been nerfed by the devs prior to Al-Mazrah being replaced in-game by Urzikstan, but it had come back to prominence since. A number of Warzone gurus highlighted it as being “better than ever” while fans urged for it to be nerfed yet again. Warzone devs nerf Lockwood 300 again Well, those fans who wanted it nerfed into the ground again have gotten their wish. On December 19, the devs confirmed they’d nerfed the shotgun again by disabling the powerful Dual Trigger attachment. “We’ve deployed an update to disable the use of the Maelstrom Dual Trigger Attachment on the Lockwood 300 Shotgun in public Playlists. It will remain visible in the Gunsmith but will not be usable in a match,” they said. That sparked plenty of joyous reactions from fans. “Man, they are so fast on this compared to when this problem initially came out. From taking 2-3 weeks to nerf something down to maybe 2-3 days,” one fan replied. “Whoever gained the common sense to just disable broken shit and fix it later, thank you,” added CoD YouTuber ProReborn. “Huge W in these quick updates. previous Warzones it would’ve plagued for weeks until a fix,” another commented. “This is how you run a BR. I hope IW is taking notes,” said another. Some players pointed out that the problem would have been fixed originally had the devs properly tested the update that led to the shotgun being OP again. Though, at least they’ve ironed it out now.

  • Warzone devs confirm Verdansk farewell event with Operation: Flashback – Dexerto

Warzone devs confirm Verdansk farewell event with Operation: Flashback ActivisionWarzone devs confirmed there will be a farewell event for Verdansk with Operation: Flashback before Vanguard’s new map Caldera is integrated into the game. Here’s everything to know. Warzone’s new map, Caldera, will be coming to the game on December 2 when Season 1 of Vanguard begins. The limited-time mode is scheduled to go live on November 18 but was not given an end date so it could run until the new map is introduced on December 2. Warzone Operation: Flashback content As reported in the Visons of Verdansk leak “every new circle starts a random event, prepare for flashbacks from the past. Contracts and Supply Boxes reward memories of yesterday, with a chance of Powerups or Keycards.” This means that with every circle we can see a change in rules, weapons, or terrain as well as other surprises to cover Verdansk’s history. While this is the farewell it has been teased that once again, Verdansk will be destroyed. On November 30, the destruction of Verdansk begins. We will update you when that information is revealed, in the meantime keep up with all Warzone news here.

  • Warzone devs confirm Streetsweeper nerfs coming in next update – Dexerto

Warzone devs confirm Streetsweeper nerfs coming in next update ActivisionRaven Software have confirmed that they’re taking a close look at Warzone’s Streetsweeper shotgun balancing, and there are changes coming in the next update. As Warzone has continued to get bigger and bigger, players have put pressure on Raven Software to make sure that the battle royale stays in tip-top shape and to keep feeling fresh. There have been complaints about a lack of regular weapon changes, but following the start of Cold War Season 3, the Warzone devs revealed that they’d quickly be making a few changes to the AMAX, FARA, and Bullfrog, among others. Despite those changes, players have called for a nerf to the Streetsweeper gun as it’s started to pick up some love for just how strong it is and that it’s also available from ground loot. NRG content creator Joe ‘AverageJoeWo’ Wohala was one of the players calling for changes, asking for the devs to outright remove it from ground loot. The devs heard his call and quickly responded on Twitter. “We’re taking a close look at the Streetsweeper in general,” they tweeted on April 30. “Changes are coming in the next update. No details to share just yet.” Some players quickly jumped in to praise the devs for saying they’re addressing, however, you can’t please everyone. We’re taking a close look at the Streetsweeper in general. Changes are coming in the next update. No details to share just yet. — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) May 1, 2021 A handful of players quickly criticized the fact that the Streetsweeper looks set to be nerfed, saying it just removed another usable shotgun from the weapon pool, thus restricting meta changes. Some suggested that the devs should simply tweak the spawn rate of the shotgun so it’s a bit more uncommon as ground loot, forcing players to use it in their loadout. Either way, Raven will have the final say on things in the next update, so we’ll just have to wait and see what changes are made exactly when the new patch rolls out in the future.

  • Warzone devs confirm secret nerfs to Cold War suppressors will be reverted – Dexerto

Warzone devs confirm secret nerfs to Cold War suppressors will be reverted Activision[Update March 3, 2021]: Raven Software has followed-up on its promise and released a brand-new game settings update for Warzone, fixing the nerfs to the Agency, GRU, and Wrapped suppressors on Black Ops Cold War weapons, making the issue seemingly solved. Original story follows: Fans of Call of Duty: Warzone will be pleased to know that Season 2’s secret nerfs to the Agency Suppressor and other Black Ops Cold War silencers will be reverted very soon. As soon as the clock hit zero, tons of Warzone players eagerly logged on for some late-night, Season 2 action. Intrigued by a mysterious ghost ship, an assortment of zombies, new ground loot and two brand-new guns… players became surprised by an unsavory change: weaker Cold War guns. While the Agency Suppressor was originally weak at range, then buffed to fit in line with Modern Warfare’s Monolithic Suppressor, the attachment’s strength appeared to have been weakened in Season 2. Murmurings spread around the community quickly, with content creator JGOD then confirming what many had begun suspecting — the Agency Suppressor actually hurts your bullet velocity (again). Fortunately, devs have quickly responded and confirmed that this will be reverted. As JGOD explores in his video, the new update does ensure that in-game descriptions of attachment values are actually reflective of what they do in the game. So attachments that claim to help bullet velocity will actually do so, which was not the case in the past. The downside, though, is that this means that the hidden buffs to the Agency Suppressor’s bullet velocity (as seen with the FFAR 1) are now reflective of the attachment information. So, as the game says, bullet velocity is now nerfed. An immediate detriment, the Monolithic Suppressor was considered the go-to Warzone attachment because velocity buffs ensured players could be more effective at hitting shots on the large map. By reverting the buffs to make the Agency Suppressor similar to Monolithic, the update effectively nerfs all ranged Cold War guns. ❗️ We expect this change to live with an update later this week. — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) March 2, 2021 As Raven Software tweeted within a day of the new update going live, Agency, Gru, and Wrapped Suppressors will be reverted “to their former glory.” While a minor update went out on March 1, this change is expected to arrive “later this week.” This likely means that, in line with the Monolithic Suppressor, these suppressors will enjoy a bullet velocity buff — making them more effective at range and much more viable. While it may be frustrating for fans to know that these buffs and nerfs aren’t reflected in the patch notes, one can only hope that the new emphasis on transparency in the in-game attachment descriptions will be reflected in the new hot fix. That could be a huge help, as fans will no longer need to test things out themselves to figure out what attachments truly do.

  • Warzone RICOCHET PC driver not available in North America at launch – Dexerto

Warzone RICOCHET PC driver not available in North America at launch ActivisionCall of Duty Warzone’s kernel-level RICOCHET anti-cheat driver won’t be released in North America at launch and will instead be a part of its global rollout. RICOCHET is Activision’s latest initiative to combat hackers. The server-side anti-cheat is already live across all regions for Warzone and Vanguard. Both players and developers are hoping the kernel-level security system will hamper rampant cheaters in Warzone. Stakeholders were hoping for a simultaneous release of Warzone Pacific and RICOCHET to ensure fair and smooth gameplay during Season 1’s launch, but that now looks unlikely. “This strategic launch approach allows us to monitor stability, collect feedback, and make any required updates before expanding the rollout,” the devs said in a blog post. “Additionally, information about cheating behavior provided by the kernel-level driver will help enforce security for all players around the world.” The anti-cheat was technically released on the same day as Pacific but RICOCHET is only available in the Asia-Pacific region ahead of its wider launch. It’s far from the beginning of RICOCHET’s overall rollout but the decision will mean that NA players will have to wait until they’re backed up by user-side systems. The devs didn’t announce a release window. Sledgehammer Games announced the launch of RICOCHET won November 12, which coincided with Call of Duty Vanguard’s release. Since then, the upgraded server-side security systems that are a part of the new anti-cheat structure have been live in Warzone. NEW: Activision says RICOCHET Anti-Cheat PC-kernel level driver will be added to Warzone starting tomorrow in Asia-Pacific region first, with worldwide rollout to follow shortly after. pic.twitter.com/310rPjfXNm — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) December 7, 2021 The company’s #TeamRICOCHET, a Twitter tag that players can follow to keep up with COD’s security team, will update fans as more news of the anti-cheat comes out. Once it releases, every player will have to download the program in order to access Warzone. From there, RICOCHET will only run on a PC when the BR is active. As soon as Warzone is closed, so does the driver. As Warzone hackers find new measures to evade anti-cheat measures, Warzone fans are hoping the new RICOCHET system will be enough to rein in cheaters.

  • Warzone devs confirm plans to finally fix footstep audio – but not with Season 2 – Dexerto

Warzone devs confirm plans to finally fix footstep audio – but not with Season 2 ActivisionWarzone players will be delighted to hear that after months of complaining about audio in the game — especially directional footstep audio — the developers at Raven Software are working on a fix. Audio has long been an issue for Warzone players. In fact, if you’ve tuned into a Dr Disrespect stream at any point since the game launched in March 2020, you’ll likely have heard him rant about Warzone audio in some capacity. While there have been gradual changes to game audio since it launched, it’s still a huge point of contention for players. When discussing the launch of Warzone 2, however, the devs did speak a bit about the current state of the game. While they finally explained why console won’t get a FOV slider, they also addressed a number of other things with the current iteration of Warzone. During the media briefing, which saw a number of publications and content creators speak with the devs about the upcoming games, they revealed that a fix for the audio in current Warzone is coming — but it won’t be here for the launch of Season 2 on February 14. Revealed in a tweet from CharlieINTEL, one player asked if there was any new info on the “horrible” audio. They were then told: “Adjustments for directional footstep audio in Warzone is currently planned for Season 3 update.” Adjustments for directional footstep audio in Warzone is currently planned for Season 3 update. https://t.co/egbE53h9v4 — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) February 11, 2022 With one respondent questioning them saving a fix for “one of the biggest issues with the game until Season 3,” it’s worth noting that this means the fix won’t be available until around April, when the new season launches. Although this has been a huge complaint from players from some time, it’s definitely better late than never in this instance, and it will be interesting to see how they fix the Warzone audio.

  • Warzone devs confirm nerfs for DMR, dual Diamattis & other weapons coming soon – Dexerto

Warzone devs confirm nerfs for DMR, dual Diamattis & other weapons coming soon TreyarchRaven Software, the developers who are currently in charge of Call of Duty: Warzone, have announced that they’re working on nerfs for several weapons from Black Ops Cold War, including the controversial DMR 14 tactical rifle, dual-wield Diamatti pistols, and more. If you have touched Warzone even once since the launch of Season 1 and its integration with Black Ops Cold War, then you should be all too familiar with the DMR 14, a tactical rifle introduced in this year’s title. Arguably the most overpowered weapon to be added to Warzone since the battle royale’s launch back in March, the DMR has dominated Verdansk and Rebirth Island in an almost unprecedented fashion, leading to a virtually unified outcry from the player-base begging the developers to nerf it. Well, that day is finally near, as Raven confirmed on January 5 that they are working on balancing adjustments for the tactical rifle, as well as the dual-wield Diamattis, Type 63, and Mac 10. Don’t fret! We’ve heard you and a balance update is coming soon to address concerns about the DMR 14, Type 63, Mac 10, and dual pistols. ⚖️⏲️ — Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) January 5, 2021 While not considered as big of a problem as the DMR, the Diamattis in dual-wield form have increasingly become a source of frustration among Warzone players as well. Similar to the old Akimbo Snakeshot .357 pistols, the double Diamatts have a TTK (time to kill) faster than almost every other close-range gun, making them a major go-to for a lot of players, especially since they allow you to use Ghost in your loadout right away. Remember the Akimbo Snakeshots in Warzone? Their spiritual successor is here 😬 There’s an overpowered dual-wield Diamatti loadout taking over Verdansk, and it lets you keep Ghost too: https://t.co/NX9Sdr7E24 (via @Swagg) pic.twitter.com/qbvOtKeiNe — Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) December 24, 2020 The other two guns that are set to be nerfed – the Mac 10 and Type 63 – also make a lot of sense. The Mac 10 has overtaken almost every other SMG in the battle royale, so it’s probably a good time to take it down a notch to introduce a little more variance in the weapon pool. As for the Type 63, another tactical rifle, the devs likely want to reduce its effectiveness because it’s also quite powerful, and with the DMR in line to get a nerf, the Type 63 would essentially replace it to a similar effect, which would make this whole process moot. Raven also confirmed in a separate tweet that these changes will be exclusive to Warzone, meaning that the weapons will not be adjusted in Black Ops Cold War multiplayer. This makes sense since there’s generally not been any major complaints about any of the four guns in multiplayer. In fact, none of them are even considered to be part of the BOCW meta at this point. As of now, there’s no official release date set for this weapon tuning patch, although the likeliest is probably Thursday, January 7, which is when the next playlist update for Warzone is expected to go live. As always, we will continue to provide you with the latest information, so make sure to check back here regularly and follow us on @DexertoINTEL to stay updated.

  • Warzone devs confirm massive increase to Battle Royale match size – Dexerto

Warzone devs confirm massive increase to Battle Royale match size ActivisionWarzone’s 100-player lobby count will increase in the future, based on a post from the developers, and players are hyped. When Warzone first launched in 2020, the standard lobby size was 150 in the game’s larger maps, which was quite the deviation from other battle royale titles at the time. Yet, over the years, that number has dwindled quite a bit. Not counting the small modes like Resurgence, the standard lobby size four years later is 100 players. This decrease left fans frustrated since Warzone’s mobile port supports 120 players. However, it seems the console and PC ports’ luck is set to change. Ahead of Season 4’s launch on May 29, Warzone developer Raven Software shared on Twitter/X that a player count change is inbound, with lobby sizes increasing to 120 players. Community feedback was immensely positive, especially from the game’s content creators. Well-known members like FaZe Swagg, analytics expert JGOD, and Metaphor all replied with various words of praise for the change such as “W,” “finally,” and “nice.” That said, this isn’t new ground for Warzone. In fact, lobbies boasted 150 players four years ago in the original Warzone that was a part of MW 2019. While 120 is a nice bump in the count, some were hoping for a little bit more. One of the many demands for 150 came from OPMarked, who simply replied: “150 plz.” Others went even as far as to ask for 200-player lobbies, a call back to the wild BR 200 mode. Player count increase aside, Warzone still faces plenty of question marks from the community. There are no big map Ranked modes, which many have been asking for, as well as changes to Urzikstan, leading players to play Resurgence Ranked. There’s also the never-ending war against cheaters, which also bleeds into the Ranked experience.

  • Warzone devs confirm map rotation is in the works: “We all want that” – Dexerto

Warzone devs confirm map rotation is in the works: “We all want that” ActivisionWarzone developers have confirmed that a map rotation is in the works, with the goal of transitioning between Caldera and Verdansk their top priority. However, “insane” technical issues appear to be holding them back for now. In the two years since Warzone’s release, a maximum of two maps have ever been in focus at the same time. While Verdansk came first, the smaller Rebirth Island soon landed alongside it. Since then, we’ve seen Caldera outright replace the original battle royale map, for better or worse. Rather than simply coexisting, as multiple maps do in plenty of rival games like Apex Legends and PUBG, Warzone instead opted to feature just one regular-sized landscape at a time. Naturally, many have called on Warzone’s devs to backtrack on this stance and allow for a standard map rotation feature. It now appears that’s exactly what the teams under Activision’s banners are hoping to achieve. It turns out, we may have had such a feature already if not for some “insane” technical issues. In regards to map rotation in Warzone, Creative Lead Josh Bridge assured the dev team wants it just as much as the game’s most dedicated players. “We want that. We all want that,” he told CoD legend TeeP during a March 23 Q&A. The reason it hasn’t happened already, boils down to a “technical problem,” he explained. “The install and reinstall sizes [are] f***ing crazy. It’s insane. “If we pulled out Caldera and said, ok, we’re gonna drop in Verdansk, this could essentially be redownloading the size of Warzone.” Given Warzone’s current file size, one that often grows with each seasonal content drop, devs have obviously been looking to avoid any extra downloads. Each time there’s been a sizeable patch to download in recent months, Warzone has “lost players,” Bridge admitted. Rest assured though, a solution to this file size issue has been in the works to allow for map rotation in Warzone. “That’s where we have been putting a lot more effort into,” Bridge continued. “How do we sort that on a technical level so we can have that rotation? We’ve been really looking at it.” While he was hesitant to provide any concrete details at this stage, the feature could be arriving sooner than later. “We’ll have more to talk about,” he said. One potential idea that was floated during the conversation was that of a “seasonal map rotation.” While both Verdansk and Caldera may not be accessible at the same time, this possible solution could help keep Warzone “fresh” in the long run.
