  • Warzone 2 players thrilled at the return of 1v1 Gulag matches – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players thrilled at the return of 1v1 Gulag matches ActivisionWarzone 2 players rejoiced as Activision decided to backtrack on its 2v2 Gulag concept and bring back the fan-favorite 1v1 format. On January 18, Activision delayed MW2 and WZ2 Season 2 until February 15. The decision disappointed community members, but the development team promised significant changes to the battle royale sequel. The delay announcement explicitly mentioned adjustments to looting, loadouts, and the Gulag. Warzone 2 players expressed concerns after watching the new Gulag system first appear during Call of Duty Next, and the final product failed to sway public opinion. The developers changed the classic Gulag from 1v1 to 2v2 in some ways to push the new proximity chat feature. Gulag participants could use proximity chat to strategize with their random teammates or cooperate with the enemy team to take out the Jailer and respawn all four players. One of the biggest concerns raised was putting your life in the hands of a random teammate, and other players complained about teammates leaving before the match even started. Activision listened to the overwhelming feedback and announced a reinstatement of the 1v1 format for Season 2. 1v1 Gulag matches return to Warzone 2 On January 19, Infinity Ward announced, “1v1’s are back in Battle Royale.” The developers added, “Gulag updates are coming in Season 02. We’ll be sharing more details about this in next week’s studio blog.” Warzone 2 TimTheTatman responded emphatically, “that’s what I’m f**king talking about.” TrueGameData added, “We prayed to our lord and savior, Raven Software, and they are coming through for us like always.” Call of Duty leaker Metaphor stated, “so it begins,” hinting at the other potential changes scheduled in the pipeline. We will provide an update when we know more about the Gulag and everything else coming to Warzone 2 in Season 2.

  • Warzone 2 players think more ranked bans are coming including attachments, perks, more – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players think more ranked bans are coming including attachments, perks, more ActivisionWarzone 2 players believe that more bans and restrictions could be coming to ranked play due to a potential visual bug showcasing certain attachments, perks, and more being unavailable to use. On May 17, ranked developers Treyarch revealed that they had restricted both the Cluster Mine and Bomb Drone in Ranked Play, removing them to provide a more fair and balanced experience while players grind to earn their SR. While they didn’t rule out the possibility of those items returning, some players think there are more restrictions on the way, and it’ll change the game up massively if true. More Warzone 2 ranked bans? This comes after a player queued into ranked play and was met with several ‘Restricted’ symbols with attachments, throwables, and perks banned. This led to speculation that the likes of silencers, Drill Charges, Smoke Grenades, the Overkill perk, and the High Alert perk, among other things, could be banned in future seasons. As pointed out in the replies, however, this might not be the case. One possible counter to this being legitimate was mentioned by Call of Duty content creator ProReborn, who said that “this is probably a bug where it is visually showing the bans from MW2 comp.” Another player replied saying that similar had happened to them, with Weapon Tuning restricted when they tried playing, presumably carried over from Modern Warfare 2 ranked. It’s clear that Treyarch is assessing all options when it comes to what they restrict in Warzone 2 Ranked Play and how they can make the experience a better one, but whether these things do get banned in coming updates remains to be seen.

  • Warzone 2 players stumble across new use for killstreaks – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players stumble across new use for killstreaks ActivisionPrecision Airstrikes and Mortar Strikes are great for taking enemies out on roofs, but Warzone 2 players have discovered another use for killstreaks. Killstreaks work much differently in Warzone 2 than Modern Warfare 2. Players earn streaks in multiplayer matches by getting enough kills or points. For battle royale matches, streaks are lootable, and this resulted in players abusing the mechanic. Players would find a medium or large backpack and load them to the brim with killstreaks. Final circles became a nightmare as kill streaks rained from the sky with nowhere to run. Infinity Ward realized the downsides of a backpack system and removed it entirely from the game as part of the Season 2 update. Killstreaks no longer pack the same punch they once did, as players can no longer stack them. However, a WZ2 squad inadvertently met their demise at the hands of a killstreak, but not how you would expect. Warzone 2 players hilariously get taken out by killstreak A Warzone 2 player posted a clip on Reddit and asked, “I’m dying. Is this a kill streak or just bad luck with a map plane?” In the video, a team is flying a helicopter on Al Mazrah, and a plane comes soaring in and takes out the entire team. With the plane so moving fast, the squad didn’t even know what hit them. Community members put on their detective hats and tried to determine the cause of death. One player responded, “I think it was a precision airstrike. I saw it last second and was like that’s not going to, oh my god!” A second user added, “Jesus, that was the funniest thing I’ve ever seen from this game! I came close a couple of times, but I always figured the jets didn’t have a hitbox. Now I know.” Whatever the cause, keep your head on a swivel the next time you fly over Al Mazrah.

  • Warzone 2 players spot subtle Verdansk easter egg hidden on new Operator – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players spot subtle Verdansk easter egg hidden on new Operator ActivisionA subtle throwback to Verdansk has been uncovered across both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 as the Reyes Operator just can’t seem to let go of the past. When Warzone 2 was first announced, developers assured Verdansk would be left behind. With Al Mazrah taking over the spotlight, and the original game focusing on Caldera instead, Verdansk was said to be a thing of the past, never to return. However, that hasn’t quite been the case since these initial plans were made public. Since then, we’ve seen Warzone Mobile feature the iconic BR map, opening the doors on a possible return for the mainline series moving forward. Now, it appears even new characters in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 have an attachment to the original locale. It turns out, a subtle easter egg has been hidden on the default Reyes Operator skin since the sequels went live. As Reddit user ‘tiktokalnuke’ revealed, the figure drops in with a cutout of the Verdansk map covering his forearm. By triggering the weapon inspect animation, this small portion of a map on his body becomes clear. Just by flipping it horizontally and lining it up, this player was able to confirm without any doubt that this chunk fits perfectly over the Verdansk map. It aligns with the left half of the original Warzone layout. Just what it’s doing on Reyes at this point in time, however, doesn’t quite add up. After all, why would an Operator dropping into the new Al Mazrah map need a quick look at Verdansk? What benefit would that possibly have in combat? So with that in mind, it’s more than likely developers simply left this texture in as a little easter egg for fans to track down, without serving any other purpose. We can certainly speculate from here that we’ll one day see Reyes dropping into Verdansk, but we’re no closer to learning when this time will come. For now, Al Mazrah serves as the core BR map in Warzone 2, with no alternatives available. While smaller maps are seemingly on the horizon, and Caldera will be accessible again soon, there’s still no word on when Verdansk may return properly. • Warzone 2 players split over “strict” Ranked Play SR system – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players split over “strict” Ranked Play SR system ActivisionWarzone 2 Ranked Play has mechanisms to prevent the Top 250 players from resting on their laurels, dividing community members. Season 3 Reloaded introduced Ranked Play to Warzone 2. Players must progress through seven skill divisions, before ultimately earning a coveted spot in the Top 250. Each division requires a set amount of skill rating (SR), acquired through placement, kills, assists, and kills by your squad. Each time a squad queues up for a match it comes with a price: a deployment fee deducts SR from a player and the fee increases as you level up. The punishing system makes it harder for high-ranked players to keep their rank, prompting a debate within the WZ2 community. Warzone 2 players split over Ranked Play SR system WZ2 pro player HusKerrs placed second in a Ranked Play match with 11 eliminations, but got 0 SR. To break that down, it cost 110 SR for every Iridescent and Top 250 to deploy into a match. And it costs an additional 10 SR for every 250 player with an SR above 10,000 up to a max deployment fee of 210. Every first-place finish awards 100 SR, and kills can award up to 15 SR based on how many teams are remaining. Based on that scoring system, Top 250 players must consistently play well to keep their position. We claimed on Twitter: “The SR situation needs to be changed up a bit in Warzone Ranked.” Community members sounded off in the comments, with a majority defending the system. IceManIsaac responded: “Isn’t that literally the point though? It’s not about who plays the most, it’s about who plays the most consistent.” Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play matches don’t have a deployment fee. IceManIsaac argued that MW2’s system favors those who play more instead of consistent performers. HusKerrs pushed back slightly by claiming: “There was a super sweaty game yesterday where I had 7 individual kills. The team had 19 total, we won the game, and I still lost 9 SR. So while I see Isaac’s point, there definitely needs to be a little tuning.” Call of Duty leaker TheGhostOfHope argued: “HusKerrs wouldn’t be where he is in Top 250 if he couldn’t consistently outpace the SR penalty. Sure it sucks to barely go positive but that’s the point of Ranked.” Ranked Play is still in beta, so mechanics are still subject to change for the full release.

  • Warzone 2 players slam “pathetic” sniper rifles after Season 3 Reloaded nerf – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players slam “pathetic” sniper rifles after Season 3 Reloaded nerf ActivisionOne-shot sniping in Warzone 2 suffered a major blow in Season 3 Reloaded, as explosive ammunition saw a substantial nerf to its bullet velocity. Infinity Ward nerfed the bullet velocity of sniper rifle explosive ammunition as part of the Season 3 Reloaded update. The developers didn’t provide specific numbers, so TheXclusiveAce tested every weapon nerf himself. He discovered that the bullet velocity for the FJX Imperium decreased from 468 meters per second to 355, which is about a 25% reduction. This reduction applied to every sniper rifle in the game. You need to equip explosive ammunition to make a sniper one-shot kill enemies, so some community members argued that the nerf made it too difficult to use snipers in Season 3 Reloaded. Is one-shot sniping still good in Warzone 2? Bullet velocity refers to the speed at which the barrel leaves the barrel of the weapon, and if it’s slower, that makes it harder to hit enemies further away because the bullet will drop faster. A 25% reduction in bullet velocity is much more noticeable on a long-range weapon like a sniper rifle than a close-range weapon like an SMG, and the reduced projectile speed has made it much more difficult for players to land shots on moving targets. On top of that, a WZ2 player posted a video on Reddit of an MCPR-300 struggling to hit an enemy even though the crosshair appeared to be lined up perfectly with their head. One player responded: “The bullet drop is awful, and to top it off, the hits don’t register quite often, and it’s a one-shot kill only for headshots. I Stopped using it and switched to high-velocity rounds instead.” Explosive ammunition already reduces bullet velocity by a whopping 40%, so players have started swapping out their ammunition types in an effort to find something that can replace explosive rounds and give them that much sought-after one-shot potential without the bullet velocity drawbacks. But some community members aren’t ready to make the change. “The problem with high velocity is that you can’t make plays with it. One shot headshot is just too important for Ranked Play.” Although players haven’t yet reached a consensus on an alternative, Warzone 2 community members collectively slammed explosive ammunition after the most recent nerf.

  • Warzone 2 players slam “out of touch” developers for not addressing perk bugs – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players slam “out of touch” developers for not addressing perk bugs ActivisionAn Ultimate Perk bug and editable perk package bug currently plague Warzone 2. The developers admitted they were unaware of both issues, angering community members. Modern Warfare 2 players can customize perk packages, but Warzone 2 users don’t share that same luxury. The battle royale offers preset packages suited for different types of playstyles. CoD content creator WhosImmortal explained Warzone 2’s Ultimate Perk isn’t working correctly and went over the rumor that some players can edit their perk packages. The YouTuber also discussed a Birdseye perk glitch, awarding unlimited UAVs. WhosImmortal provided video evidence of the perks failing to activate in-game properly, and fans are unsatisfied with the lack of communication from developers. Warzone 2 players demand answers from developers CharlieINTEL revealed that in a call with Infinity Ward and Raven, “the devs didn’t appear to know that the Ultimate Perk was not functioning in Warzone 2 and have said they will fix it.” “They also stated that Perks being Editable in WZ2 is a bug, and it shouldn’t be like that.” Community members expected fixes for both issues in the Season 1 Reloaded update, but the long list of bug fixes failed to mention perks. WZ2 content creator TimTheTatman replied, “bro, the perks aren’t fixed in this update? holy sh**.” A second user added, “Warzone 2 is such a fun game with a lot of potential to be a classic in the COD series, but it seems like the devs don’t really care about the issues with it and are slowly ruining the game.” Some players argued the developers don’t have a proper read on community feedback, as a third person claimed, “How are they so out of touch with the game they make? It makes absolutely no sense.” We will provide an update if the issues are addressed. Make sure to check out our guide explaining how Warzone 2 perk packages work.

  • Warzone 2 players slam “out of control” latency issues in Season 2 – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players slam “out of control” latency issues in Season 2 ActivisionWarzone 2 players have hit out at the “out of control” latency and packet loss issues that they claim have made the game unplayable in Season 2. Season 2 has been well received by the community so far. As the first major update of the year, it delivered a ton of changes and brought players a slew of new additions. Some have even gone as far as to say Warzone feels “brand-new” after the improvements made in the new season. However, while well received, that’s not to say there haven’t been problems. Now, players are putting the battle royale on blast as networking issues take over. Warzone 2 fans blast networking issues in Season 2 In a March 4 Reddit thread, Warzone player ‘ThatNeonZebraAgain’ hit out at the devs over the latency and packet loss issues that have recently made the battle royale unplayable. “Since around Season 2, I’ve had more games than not with unplayable latency and/or packet issues,” they said. “Just tried to join 3 different solo matches and each one my latency was yo-yoing from 150-300. Other times over the past few weeks, the latency appears normal but my and the squadmates are rubberbanding around periodically. “Sometimes some squadmates have these issues while others don’t, and vice versa. We haven’t found any pattern to it.” The player continued: If I test my latency on any of the various internet speed test websites, it’s normal. What in the hell happened to the servers? And more importantly, are they going to do anything about it?! Many are also experiencing the same issues, leaving them contemplating quitting the game until the lag is resolved. “I’m not playing until the lag is fixed,” one wrote. Others are doubtful that the devs will take any action. “Same for me. They probably won’t do anything about it until people stop playing the game,” they said. Hopefully, we’ll see the devs make some much-needed server improvements in the near future.

  • Warzone 2 players slam “horrible” visibility & rendering issues: “I can’t see s**t” – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players slam “horrible” visibility & rendering issues: “I can’t see s**t” ActivisonWarzone 2 players are furious with visibility and rendering problems that are making it impossible to land shots in long-range gunfights. In any FPS, visibility is one of the most important aspects of a game and this is especially true in Warzone 2 where fast TTKs mean skirmishes can be over in an instant. Visual clarity is absolutely essential in order to keep gunfights fair and even, but according to some members of the WZ2 community, it’s becoming impossible to spot enemies from afar. Rendering bugs, pings, dark areas, and visual recoil mean a lot of players “can’t see s**t” and want the devs to make serious changes. Warzone 2 community slams “horrible” visibility issues Taking to the CODWarzone Reddit, a lot of Warzone 2 players are complaining about visibility issues on Al Mazrah and Ashika Island. A thread created by Seven0232 raises the problem with rendering, claiming some enemies simply won’t load properly when viewed from a distance. This makes it impossible to know “where to aim” in the midst of a skirmish and can even result in unexplained deaths from foes that are invisible as they haven’t rendered in. With countless players arguing that it’s “horrible” & “needs a fix”, it’ll be interesting to see whether the devs take note and implement any changes. Unfortunately, rendering isn’t the only difficulty players are facing when it comes to visual clarity with “muzzle smoke, visual recoil, screen redness, dark areas, and teammate’s pings” all making it hard to see and concentrate. While pings and loadout drop markers are impossible to remove, a solution could be to reduce muzzle smoke and visual recoil. Some users suggested turning “off all the effects you can” and using a “silencer”, which could be a good temporary solution. Either way, it’s clear the community wants the devs to improve Warzone 2’s overall visual clarity to make it easier to fight foes at long range. Despite this, with Season 2 Reloaded just around the corner, it’s likely Raven is focused on new content, rather than fixing frustrating bugs and adding quality-of-life changes.

  • Warzone 2 players slam “horrible” UAV nerf in Season 3 Reloaded – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players slam “horrible” UAV nerf in Season 3 Reloaded ActivisionUAVs became more accessible in Warzone 2 after the Season 3 Reloaded update but also received a substantial nerf. Season 3 Reloaded made a few drastic gameplay changes for Warzone 2. Infinity Ward improved mobility by increasing sliding and mantling speed and slowed down the time-to-kill in close-range engagements. Both highly requested changes should make moving around the map easier and firing back in gunfights less of a struggle. The mid-season update also added lootable perk packages and deployable buy stations. Having access to important items at any period of a match will go a long way in improving the flow of matches. Unfortunately, not every change received glowing reviews, as a nerf to UAVs aggravated WZ2 community members. Warzone 2 players question need for UAV nerf ModernWarzone shared three UAV changes coming to every Warzone map and mode. UAV pings will now only emit from the player who activated the UAV. If the player who called in the UAV dies, the UAV will stop, and using three UAVs will still upgrade the signal into an advanced UAV. This goes hand-in-hand with a buy station change. The price of UAVs is now 6,000$ instead of 4,000$, but buy stations will carry an unlimited amount of the killstreak instead of one. In the Season 3 Reloaded blog, the developers claimed: “We felt that, like all killstreaks, the killstreak should come from the player who calls it in so when players hear enemy UAV overhead, they know that the total radius covered is a fixed, known quantity across all modes.” This change requires a little more explanation. The ping of a UAV extends 300 meters. When a player uses a UAV, the ping will only stay within that range of the user. If a teammate is out of that range, they will no longer get a UAV ping. The teammate will only see the ping from the player who used the UAV. Community members slammed the design choice. One player responded: “They really love embracing the one step forward, two steps back approach with Warzone 2.” A second user added: “Reinventing the wheel for no reason whatsoever. I’m constantly flabbergasted.” Hopefully, this change will end up making a positive impact once players get used to it in Warzone 2.

  • Warzone 2 players slam “drip feeding” of Resurgence playlists – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players slam “drip feeding” of Resurgence playlists Infinity WardInfinity Ward announced a new weekly playlist for Warzone 2, but fans want access to every playlist simultaneously. In the Season 2 patch notes, Raven Software stated Ashika Island would be available for all squad sizes. However, the new map only launched with quads, and players called out the developers for “lying.” On Friday, February 24, the Resurgence map finally received a solo playlist, restoring faith in community members. That good faith didn’t last long, as Raven Software only made solos available in a weekend playlist. Twitch streamer Symfuhny gave up on playing Ashika Island after his favorite playlist was removed just after a few days. Call of Duty added duos to the game mode in Warzone 2’s latest playlist update, making players question why they can’t have every playlist available at once. Warzone 2 players demand every playlist on Ashika Island Warzone 2 news account ModernWarzone argued, “We were promised all squad sizes for Ashika Island on launch in Warzone 2.” They continued, “Since then, they’ve given us quads only for a week, added solos, removed solos after one weekend, and now given us duos and quads only. Why are we being drip-fed resurgence playlists?” Ashika Island is much smaller in scale than Al Mazrah, hosting 52 players, which is 13 squads of four in quads. With players respawning in four-person teams, taking out enemies can be a little too chaotic, especially if you are solo-queued. Some community members believe the close-quarters map flows better in smaller squad-sized playlists. One player responded, “Willing to bet the player base isn’t big enough this CoD to have all the playlists splitting the players.” ModernWarzone retorted, “If this is the case, then keep trios and solos permanently and rotate out duos and quads.” CoD leaker TheGhostOfHope argued, “It’s just a stupid excuse for the devs who haven’t learned jack sh** from the first game.” For now, players will have to log on when their preferred playlist is available.

  • Warzone 2 players slam disappearing weapon bug “ruining” matches – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players slam disappearing weapon bug “ruining” matches Activision BlizzardA new Warzone 2 issue that sees dropped weapons and equipment disappear has been blasted by players, with plenty claiming it has “ruined” matches and needs a quick patch. Warzone 2 has seen its share of issues since launch, from the bizarre glitch that let players skip the Gulag to crashes occuring when entering certain sections of Al Mazrah and, recently, an exploit that lets players hide in walls and kill other players. Now, some players have run into an issue where dropped equipment and weapons inexplicably vanish, leaving the affected player without their hard-earned loot and, potentially, a purchased weapon from a Buy Station or Loadout Drop. Warzone 2 vanishing weapons bug Both of these happened to one Redditor, who shared their experience in a frustrated post on January 7. The bug occurred towards the finale of his quad’s high kill game, ruining the closing stages of what they said was one of their best games on Warzone 2. They explained that their weapon vanished shortly after dropping it, as well as being unable to interact with a munitions box. The result was a subsequent elimination. Other players populating the Reddit thread also shared their stories of misadventures with bugs in Warzone 2. Some said they had experienced an identical issue. “That has happened to me a bunch of times. It seems to happen a lot more in intense situations or the closer you get to the final 2 circles,” commented one user. Unfortunately, it’s not clear what causes the specific problems so, right now, it’s hard to mitigate against. Nor, at the time of writing, have Raven or Infinity Ward addressed the issues publicly. The issues join some development decisions that have been criticized by prominent community figures. Recently, creator Swagg criticized the game for “moving backwards” compared to Warzone 1 in its final version. Here’s hoping players find it to be moving forwards in the near future.

  • Warzone 2 players slam devs after Super Powers aren’t removed despite promise – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players slam devs after Super Powers aren’t removed despite promise ActivisionSuper Powers have been a long-running controversial addition to Warzone 2, and players are once again slamming the devs over their failed promise to only allow the feature to appear in the “Super’d Up” Resurgence Mode. The Boy’s collaboration was highly anticipated, with many players looking forwards to playing as Starlight, Homelander, or Noir. However, upon the introduction of Super Powers, many found the addition to be incredibly broken, with some arguing it was OP and others claiming it wasn’t right for a game like Call of Duty. Nevertheless, the Warzone devs recently issued an update for the game, moving the powers over to a “Supe’d Up” version of Resurgence Mode, meaning players can choose to have this addition in their game mode, rather than being unwillingly met with laser eyes while trying to take an enemy down. Unfortunately, shortly after, players slammed the devs for failing to deliver on this promise, highlighting how they’re still seeing it in different game modes. Warzone 2 players question devs after Super Powers fail to be removed Posting on Reddit, one user shared the recent news with the Warzone community, explaining that “superpowers are out of every mode except Super’d Up Resurgence.” However, the comments were soon flooded with users proving the tweet wrong, explaining that they’re still seeing the unpopular design in other game modes. “They didn’t do sh*t, Temp V it’s still everywhere, at this point these clowns can’t do nothing right” wrote one user, clearly frustrated to see the superpowers appearing in most games they end up playing. Other Warzone fans confirmed the statement, highlighting “Yep, still Temp V in duos. It’s almost like they didn’t test it first,” with one replying to this statement joking that “this doesn’t surprise me even a little bit.” It seems despite the promised update, Temp V, the serum required for superpowers in Warzone 2 is still in resurgence quads, resurgence solos, and duos. One player even said they just “I got Temp V in damn DMZ.” Needless to say, fans are extremely frustrated to still see superpowers appearing in unwanted game modes, but it’s also worth highlighting that the update may still be rolling out, so in time it’s likely the game will deliver on the promise of placing it in a specific game mode.

  • Warzone 2 players shocked as developers list no issues with DMZ – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players shocked as developers list no issues with DMZ ActivisonWarzone 2 has had a rocky start, especially the new DMZ mode full of issues and bugs. However, players are stunned to see the dev team list zero issues with it on Trello, despite the community still reporting major problems. On December 15, the Season 1 Reloaded update for Warzone 2 brought in a long list of bug fixes. The hope was that this would clear up a lot of the issues players were facing before the patch, especially for the new DMZ mode. But it might be a case of out of sight, out of mind. One Reddit user posted a screenshot of the DMZ Trello board, with the issues category completely empty despite the game still being riddled with bugs, glitches and other major issues. Other Warzone 2 players have commenting on the Reddit thread, expressing their confusion while also criticizing DMZ. One user wrote that, “it’s not a lie. The issue is DMZ as a whole.” Another wrote, “I have four munition crates in my backpack and can’t use them when needed… This is just stupid.” Back in November, players were warning other community members to avoid the Airport area as it was causing major freezing and bugs for players. While the dev team have been hard at work to clear up many of the game-breaking problems, players are still reporting issues daily. The community has been very vocal about Warzone’s existing DMZ issues. However the dev team appear to be unaware — or at least unbothered — by some of the problems the game still faces even after the Reloaded update. CharlieINTEL revealed in a call with Infinity Ward and Raven “the devs didn’t appear to know that the Ultimate Perk was not functioning in Warzone 2 and have said they will fix it.” “They also stated that Perks being Editable in WZ2 is a bug, and it shouldn’t be like that.”

  • Warzone 2 players ruining games with infinite health: Cheat or bug? – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players ruining games with infinite health: Cheat or bug? ActivisionA Warzone 2 glitch or cheat is granting players infinite health, making them immune to any attacks aimed at them – but is it a frustrating cheat or just a very lucky bug saving players from being taken down? During a tense Warzone 2 battle, one player reported a glitch or hacker who was granted unlimited health against the player’s RPK and Fennec 45. The video, posted on Reddit, shows the player getting the drop on the enemy and beginning to shoot them. After many hit-markers, it’s clear they’re not dealing any damage at all so quickly switch over to their RPK only to find the enemy is immune to that as well. Naturally, the player and their team quickly get sent to the Gulag, but such an event has caused many questions to be thrown around in the comments. The primary debate is whether this is the player cheating or an accidental bug embedded into Warzone 2. Are players ruining Warzone 2 with infinite health or is it a bug? It’s no secret that there are plenty of bugs and hackers in Warzone 2, but one of the most frustrating elements is the infinite health. It makes players immune to all attacks and will quickly ruin the game for everyone involved. After the Reddit video was posted, it sparked an intense debate, with some players arguing they were “pretty sure it’s a bug” after reporting they’d experienced a similar “unkillable” person who killed them in “a similar fashion.” Other commenters agreed that this is more likely a bug, pointing out that “if he was a hacker he would have done something more fancy with his guns than punching you in the face.” Many players are of the mindset that the enemy seemed equally as confused when the bullets weren’t dealing any damage, meaning it’s likely a bug. Alternatively, some players are arguing that it is in fact a cheater using similar logic as before, stating that “this guy is just cheating and trolling I mean charging with bare fists…yeah kinda sus.” Others are commenting that, whether it’s a bug or not “they’re still abusing it which is called ‘exploiting’ which is cheating.” Whether it’s a bug or a hack, it’s clear such immunity is ruining the game for players and is causing a great deal of frustration within the community.

  • Warzone 2 players roast “underwhelming” nuke Blueprint reward – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players roast “underwhelming” nuke Blueprint reward Infinity WardWarzone 2 players are upset over the final reward for completing the extensive Champion’s Quest. They have gone online to voice their opinions about the Brass Tacks blueprint. Questing in games like Warzone 2 is part of unlocking different skins, weapons, and many other rewards. The process gives players a clear objective to work for and can encourage new gameplay styles while trying to achieve it. Difficulty levels are also scaled, with more challenging quests providing better rewards and easier quests with more common items. Unfortunately, some rewards don’t match the effort required to complete them. This seems especially true of a quest in Warzone 2. Warzone 2 players upset over quest reward One of the hardest challenges in Warzone 2 is the Champion’s Quest – which requires players to win five battle-royale missions in a row just to begin the main tasks. After winning the missions, players must go back into a match and find a contract that begins the Champion’s Quest. After successfully gathering all the materials needed for the nuke and setting it off, players can then collect their prize. However, the prize that comes after all the hard work hasn’t been well received. Fans have taken to Reddit to discuss it, vocalizing frustration about the generic character skin and weapon blueprint. In response to the post, the top comment said: “I wonder if Raven is assuming that getting the nuke is easy.” Another called out the reuse of an older skin, “S*** skin for what you gotta do to get it. It’s just Ghost from 2019 without the mask.” Because many Warzone 2 players agree that the reward isn’t worth the effort, it will hopefully encourage change for future challenges that could be added to the game. Currently, there hasn’t been any response from Infinity Ward or Raven Software regarding the unhappy response, but it is possible the developers may address it in the near future.

  • Warzone 2 players reveal one thing they would change about “perfect” Vondel map – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players reveal one thing they would change about “perfect” Vondel map ActivisionWarzone 2 players are already seriously impressed with the Vondel resurgence map that was added to the Call of Duty battle royale in Season 4 — but many believe it needs one key change to be even better. Vondel landed in Warzone 2 on June 14 with the launch of Season 4, with a fresh dose of resurgence gameplay after Ashika Island was initially added in February 2023. The Warzone devs have yet to recreate the magic of Rebirth Island when it comes to resurgence gameplay, at least in the eyes of many players, but Vondel might be the closest yet based on some of the overwhelmingly positive feedback to it so far. But what do some players believe needs changing before it can really become a top-tier battle royale map? Warzone players want Vondel timer adjusted According to Positive_Treacle_961, Vondel is “perfect,” saying the map itself is “f8cking beautiful” and doesn’t need changing. However, there is one facet of the map that they did say could be changed, with many of the comments in agreement: the timer. “I’d actually increase it so teams can get wiped more easily since there seems to be the full lobby even after 5 minutes in the match,” they said. Many of the comments agreed that the map was very good, but that the timer or the circles should be adjusted throughout the match. “Hard agree,” one response said. “The map coupled with ttk changes is an incredible and refreshing experience.” With Vondel still so new to the game, there is no doubt going to be changes coming from the devs over time, and they may well take this advice to heart and look at how altering the timer could improve gameplay. That said, it’s been leaked that a new full Warzone map will come with Modern Warfare 3 at the end of the year, so we may have to wait a little longer for a new small Resurgence map.

  • Warzone 2 players rediscover unlimited lethal equipment exploit – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players rediscover unlimited lethal equipment exploit ActivisionAn exploit giving Warzone 2 players unlimited lethal equipment items reared its ugly head again after briefly disappearing. Season 3 Reloaded gave players more options for acquiring Perks. Previously players could only get their desired Perk package by looting a Loadout Drop, which sometimes made it a nightmare as multiple teams pushed one spot with the same objective. Thankfully, the mid-season update made it possible to loot Perk packages off dead enemies or purchase them from buy stations. Despite yielding positive change, it also unintentionally broke Warzone 2’s meta, as players abused Perk packages to earn unlimited lethal equipment items. Raven Software swiftly stepped in and released a minor update to disable the ability to stow Perk packs in backpacks. But it looks like the exploit is back and more annoying than ever. Unlimited lethal equipment exploit back in Warzone 2 Warzone 2 content creator Djmas posted a clip on Twitter of the Restock exploit. Players can fill all five backpack slots with lethal equipment items. And in the case of this video, the entire team carried 10 frag grenades each. Previously the exploit worked because of the Bomber Perk Package, which included Bomb Squad, Stong Arm, Resupply, and Survivor. Eliminated players drop Perk Packages they are carrying, so if a player loots or purchases a package when they already have one, it enters the player’s backpack. Stowing Bomb Squad allowed players to throw unlimited lethal equipment items. Endless barrages of Drill Charges plagued matches and even helped squads earn easy victories. It’s unclear if that is the same exploit Djmas and his team used. Warzone 2 expert IceManIsaac fell victim to this exploit and called for the devs to fix grenade spam in Ranked Play. The YouTuber shared a video of over 10 grenades being thrown into his team’s room and ending their match. Part of the problem stems from players being able to stack equipment items in their inventory. IceManIsaac suggested the solution that it shouldn’t be able to stow lethals. WZ2 pro player HusKerrs offered a compromise that operators should only be able to carry one but still stow groups of two. It remains to be seen how Raven Software will address the exploit this time, but it’s clear the problem is again causing headaches for community members.

  • Warzone 2 players recreate classic stealth mission in DMZ and it’s amazing – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players recreate classic stealth mission in DMZ and it’s amazing Activision BlizzardTwo Warzone 2 players decided to spice up their DMZ experience by roleplaying as Ghost and Soap. Warzone 2’s gameplay has a distinct rhythm and flow. Squads, land, loot, and gradually move towards the final circle before engaging in an intense final battle. DMZ shares the same universe and some elements of WZ2 but allows players to craft their own experience. With no time limit, circles, or player count, Al Mazrah transforms into a sandbox with endless possibilities. Battling AI enemies, completing side objectives, or searching for valuable items are just some of the ways to experience DMZ. Infinity Ward struck gold with the new Escape from Tarkov-inspired game mode, and we went as far as proclaiming it as the “best Call of Duty Game in years.” DMZ’s creative expression sets it apart from other games, and two players elevated that freedom to another level. Warzone 2 players roleplay as Ghost and Soap in DMZ Longtime series veterans will remember playing through Spec Ops or Campaign missions with someone on coms while the other player approached stealthily. In a viral TikTok, two DMZ players recreated that experience while infiltrating a Stronghold. One squad member sat back with a sniper rifle and called out the locations of AI enemies for his teammate. The other player used the callouts to take out enemies one by one without being seen. Using a walkie-talkie noise while communicating was the icing on the cake for the creative roleplay. The fun spin on DMZ caught the attention of WZ2 community members. One player responded, “this is exactly how I would like to play video games.” A second user added, “this is legit, the campaign mission where you have to tell Ghost where to go.” Ghost and Soap are characters from the original MW2 campaign and returned for the 2022 game. During some of the most memorable co-op stealth missions, the pair worked in tandem. Leaning into DMZ’s creativity, a third player suggested, “DMZ needs a reason to play like this stealth. Like a blueprint in the area if you sneak. If the alarm is raised, it goes away.” WZ2 players have only scratched the surface of what’s possible in DMZ.

  • Warzone 2 players quitting in Season 2 if promised feature isn’t added – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players quitting in Season 2 if promised feature isn’t added ActivisionCall of Duty Warzone 2 players are threatening to quit the battle royale over a lack of stat tracking, with many worried it’s not coming with Season 2. For many longtime Call of Duty players, one of the biggest parts of any yearly release is finding out where they sit on the global leaderboards and how they stack up against friends with stats. Wins and losses are, naturally, pretty important, but plenty of players focus on their kill-death ratio too. Though, when it comes to Warzone 2, it’s been a little tricky. The usual stats pages have been removed from the game, and the only way to really check your K/D is with a weapon bundle. A Combat Record has been promised a few times and was apparently supposed to release at the end of 2022. However, as that’s been and gone, some players are threatening to walk away from the battle royale. Warzone 2 fans ready to quit if stats aren’t added in Season 2 With Season 2 just around the corner, Warzone 2 players have, again, called on the devs to implement the Combat Record or they’ll find something else to play. Some players said they’re “worried” that the conversation around stats has gone cold and that a few have resorted to tracking their own stats in different ways. “This is a huge priority for a ton of gamers out there,” said one Redditor. “I stopped playing because they don’t track my stats. Don’t see a point if I can’t see myself improving in gameplay,” added another. “Haven’t played in a week now and missing it less and less tbh. Will give it one last chance with season two but that might be it,” another commented. Others suggested that the lack of stats might be “by design” but that they “really hate” the lack of transparency around it. As it stands, the patch notes for Season 2 have been released, and there is no mention of a Combat Record being added. It’s very unlikely that changes at this point, but we’ll have to wait and see.

  • Warzone 2 players praise devs for “bullying” cheaters with invisibility cloak update – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players praise devs for “bullying” cheaters with invisibility cloak update ActivisionWarzone 2 players support giving cheaters a taste of their own medicine with the new invisibility cloak feature. Community members reported an uptick in Warzone 2 cheating after the Season 2 update. Activision heard the complaints and updated its Ricochet anti-cheat system which now includes a replay investigation tool allows the developers to rewatch WZ2 and MW2 matches to weed out cheaters. The developers also finally added a way to detect cheaters using a Cronus Zen device on controllers. Lastly, players received a refresher on alternative methods of dealing with cheaters. Simply banning players is not enough in some instances, as Activision also uses mitigation techniques to mess with users attempting to cut corners. Warzone 2 players are all for new mitigation technique Activision revealed cloaking, which hides players from cheaters. When a user is suspected of cheating, the enemy will show up invisible on their screen. Warzone 2 also features disarm and damage shield as two other ways to de-incentivize rule bending. Disarm removes weapons and equipment from cheaters, while damage shield provides a protective barrier against cheaters. Many members of the COD community took to Reddit to discuss these anti-cheat measures, as some argued it’s actually better to mess with cheaters instead of outright banning them. One user responded: “Use the cheat detection to make their gameplay frustrating and annoying, and they’ll be less likely to use it.” Others acknowledged there are a few downsides to these kinds of anti-cheat measures. “This will help them refine ricochet but could be extremely frustrating to a player that gets falsely tagged.” Despite putting noncheaters at risk, a third commenter argued: “It’s funny as hell to bully them, plus it annoys the hell out of them, which is funnier than an outright ban.” As Warzone Ranked launches in Season 3, Infinity Ward and the Call of Duty playerbase will see a true test of the Ricochet anti-cheat update.

  • Warzone 2 players plead for devs to fix “ridiculous” shadowban feature – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players plead for devs to fix “ridiculous” shadowban feature ActivisionWarzone 2 launched with Call of Duty’s signature Ricochet anti-cheat feature, but players are claiming that the softer report-based shadowban function is in dire need of a fix. Warzone 2’s first months have been a rollercoaster for Raven Software and the other assisting studios. While Al-Mazrah has drawn huge praise for being the best map since Verdansk ’84, other areas of the game have been plagued with familiar struggles for the franchise. Several different types of cheaters are running rampant in lobbies, game-breaking bugs popping up from time to time, and now an anti-cheat system seemingly banning players for no reason. Multiple players have brought their complaints to the internet, and they’re not alone in their complaints of being shadowbanned for no good reason. Warzone 2 players bash public reporting system over infinite shadowban loop The most prominent player to chime into the conversation has been notable Call of Duty streamer DougIsRaw, who placed the blame for his random ban on the public report system, calling it the “dumbest thing” in the game. Got un-shadowbanned and then immediately shadowbanned again. Having the public dictate who is a cheater through a simple report system when they get shit on is the dumbest thing I’ve witnessed. Unban my account please,” he tweeted to Activision and Raven Software. Doug wasn’t the only one experiencing these problems though. Another player claimed they were under review for several days and cleared the ban process only to be put right back into the process after firing a single bullet in their next game. The issue has become so prevalent that one commenter suggested that anyone experiencing it should start pushing for a refund on the game as a way to make Activision take notice. The issue has yet to pop up on Raven’s official Trello board for known issues in the game, but it’s always worth keeping an eye on that forum for anyone desperate to know if a fix ever gets put in motion.

  • Warzone 2 players outraged by “toxic” spectators cheating via text chat – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players outraged by “toxic” spectators cheating via text chat ActivisionWarzone 2’s proximity chat is a highly-praised addition to the franchise but the text chat is significantly less popular and it’s only getting worse now that dead spectators are using it to cheat. Lobby-wide text chat is a new addition to Call of Duty’s battle royale franchise in Warzone 2. In theory, it allows players to fire off quick messages to other teams similar to the proximity chat feature, but it comes with some unintended side effects. Players have now discovered that their fallen competitors can absolutely ruin matches by feeding the entire lobby callouts, effectively exposing them to any number of bloodthirsty teams who might want to take advantage of the situation. Warzone 2 players mindblown by dead enemies cheating via text chat As seen in the video below, all it takes is one salty enemy to turn things into an unbelievable headache. In the clip, Silver-Anybody is making their way around the train tracks in Al-Mazrah and is trying to position themselves safely from the rest of the action. They get into a fight and instead of being able to back up and armor up in safety, a text chatter named Jamal repeatedly leaks his every move. This ultimately resulted in our hero getting knocked down, but Self-Revive saved the day and they were able to get back in the mix. Thankfully, the underhanded tactics from Jamal weren’t enough to completely ruin things, as our POV player rallies to clean up the rest of the lobby and win the game anyway. The commenters under the post were all in agreeance that this kind of dirty tactic shouldn’t be in the game and that allowing dead players to chime into the text chat was a big oversight from the developers. “This is so beyond broken,” one player commented. “Hopefully this gets voted to the top of the page and fixed by the devs somehow.” Another fan replied to that comment and didn’t hold back about how ridiculous they found the whole situation. “This feature has been around for at least two decades in various games/custom servers, this should be CAKE for a company like Activision.” So far there hasn’t been any indication that the Warzone 2 team is looking into updating this feature, but it’s always a good idea to keep an eye on their Trello board to what they’re focusing on every day.

  • Warzone 2 players outline major issue if one-shot snipers return & they’re worried – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players outline major issue if one-shot snipers return & they’re worried ActivisionWith Warzone 2 Season 3 almost upon us, the return of one-shot snipers has been heavily rumored after months of calls for them from fans. But many players are unsure about the prospect after realizing one major issue that could come from it. Snipers have been significantly different in Warzone 2 to how they were in the original title. In the days of Verdansk and Caldera, you would often find yourself dying at the hands of a Swiss K31 or Kar98k, easily sniping you from any distance and sending you straight to the Gulag. This changed after players became increasingly frustrated with the dominant sniper rifle meta, and nerfs were implemented to bring them more level with the rest of the field. In Warzone 2, however, players have frequently called for changes to sniping, with even headshots unable to take down players at times, requesting that they’re made more powerful in Al Mazrah and Ashika Island. With rumors abound that the devs will be answering players’ prayers, though, there’s a significant player who believe one problem in Warzone 2 will get a lot worse with one-shot snipers: Buy Station campers. Buy Station camping to get even worse? In Al Mazrah, Buy Station campers have been far worse than they ever were in both Verdansk and Caldera. Making a play for a buy station is almost always incredibly risky business, as players sit in nearby windows waiting for players to come to them. This is compounded especially by the fact that the number of buy stations in Al Mazrah is significantly lower than in previous maps. In the clip above, the player k-y-z-o managed to get away after being sniped at the Buy Station. However, if the player was able to one-shot, or was using an assault rifle, for example, this would likely have been the end of k-y-z-o’s run. Others argued that with the movement system the way it currently is, one-shot snipers will be even harder to come up against, as you can’t slip, slide, and finesse like you could in Warzone 1. With rumors that movement changes could be coming, though, that may not be an issue any longer.

  • Warzone 2 players mock Season 2 Reloaded DMZ AI driving update – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players mock Season 2 Reloaded DMZ AI driving update ActivisionThe Season 2 Reloaded update allows DMZ AI to drive vehicles besides armored trucks, but players mocked the developers for forgetting to teach the bots how to actually drive. Season 2 reloaded began on March 15, bringing a few new changes to DMZ. Infinity Ward added a combat record, which allows players to track their stats after completing five matches. Unfortunately, the feature only tracks stats starting from the mid-season update. The developers also changed usage requirements for Building 21 Access Cards. Players no longer need to bring Acces Cards into a match, and only one squad member needs a card to begin an infiltration. Other small changes include adding variation to infil and exfil locations, reducing vehicles in Al Mazrah city, and increasing AI driving variety. DMZ community members have previously called out “overpowered” bots for ruining matches, so they couldn’t help but laugh as AI enemies showed a moment of weakness. DMZ players shocked by the ineptitude of AI drivers A DMZ player mocked the Season 2 Reloaded update by posting the exact statement made in the mid-season blog post. “Enemy combatants in DMZ can now operate or arrive in a variety of vehicles, not just the armored truck.” The video shows AI enemies getting stuck on a guard rail in an armored truck, and failing to pivot to a plan B. The clip poster wanted to stick around and see if the truck would eventually blow up, but the zone closing in forced them to leave before the fireworks. One player sarcastically backed up the developers, joking, “No one said they can operate them well.” A second user added, “The scientists at Activision spend so long wondering if they could, nobody stopped to think if they should.” For a system that has received a lot of flack from Warzone 2 and DMZ players, it’s refreshing to see a lighthearted experience with AI.

  • Warzone 2 players “mindblown” by removal of base game modes – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players “mindblown” by removal of base game modes ActivisionWarzone 2 players are “mindblown” by the devs’ decision to frequently remove various game modes from the popular battle royale. Since Warzone 2’s release in late 2022, a variety of game modes have come and gone as the Infinity Ward developers continue and try to keep the game fresh. So far, we’ve seen the introduction of a Resurgence mode with Ashika Island, offering players a smaller and closer quarter battleground, and more recently the addition of a new medium-sized map Vondel with the launch of Season 4. However, players are not putting the developers on blast, questioning their decision to continuously rotate game modes instead of having them all available at once. Warzone 2 players frustrated with game mode removal In a July 1 Reddit thread, Warzone 2 fan ‘kris9512’ criticized the devs, as the base solos, duos, trios, and quads game modes are frequently rotated in favor for other limited-time modes. “It absolutely boils my p***,” they hit out. “Why can’t regular BR always have solos, duos, trios and quads by default and then rotate every bullsh*t gimmick modes around them. “ They added: “Nobody f***ing wants Mini BR solos. Christ almighty. do they want a consistent concurrent player count or not?” While there’s no clear explanation as to why the devs rotate game modes, others in the thread theorized it’s due to the server capacity. “I wonder if it’s something to do with server load. Their servers genuinely can’t handle having every mode available,” said one. “If there was even the slightest chance they could support that many game modes they would. They don’t have the playerbase,” another added. Others suggested that players should even take it as a positive when their preferred game mode isn’t available, and take the time to play a different game. “Totally understand the frustration but seriously take it as a positive. If the game doesn’t have your preferred playlist, then use it as a chance to take a break from the game and play something else or do something else. It’ll be great for your sanity trust me,” they wrote.

  • Warzone 2 players meme new Kevin Durant operator – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players meme new Kevin Durant operator ActivisionKevin Durant is coming to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 as an operator, eliciting a mixed reaction from community members. Activision has already made several crossovers into the sports world for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr, and Paul Pogba joined the game as operators during the World Cup. The developers also called on Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young to feature in an MW2 teaser trailer, so it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. To celebrate the NBA playoffs, Activision is embarking on yet another ambitious sports collaboration. WZ2 and MW2 players mock Kevin Durant operator announcement On May 2, Activision announced a new Call of Duty operator is coming to Modern Warfare 2, Warzone 2, and CoD Mobile. Call of Duty insider Charlieintel reported that the mystery basketball player is Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant because the teaser says Easy Money Sniper, which is Durant’s Instagram handle. The Call of Duty Facebook page also uploaded the video as KD teaser before changing it. Community members took turns mocking the announcement. Kevin Durant infamously joined the Golden State Warriors in 2016 and received criticism for joining a superteam already loaded with superstars. One player responded: “Operator can only win when playing trios or quads with 2-3 other superstar operators.” A second user joked: “Oh great, his finishing move will be to join one of the last 2 remaining squads in the final circle.” Joking aside, community members took issue with prioritizing a basketball crossover over more relevant characters. “Why are they doing sports stars? It would be way more interesting for famous actors and people from action movies.” Modern Warfare 2 players celebrated when the “annoying” soccer event finally ended, and community members tend to share a similar sentiment for the basketball event.

  • Warzone 2 players losing their minds as Heavy Chopper meta ruins final circles – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players losing their minds as Heavy Chopper meta ruins final circles ActivisionWarzone 2 players are growing increasingly frustrated as Heavy Choppers are taking over the end-game meta, making the final circles incredibly annoying and difficult to play through. For anybody lucky enough to have not experienced it yet, the Heavy Chopper helicopters are being used all across Al Mazrah by players looking for easy wins and a shortcut to the final circle in Warzone 2. What they do is pick up a Chopper at some point, usually early in the game, and simply fly around in safety, waiting the length of the match for the action to really start kicking off. From there, it’s easy: with the final players forced into ever-smaller circles, they can simply hover in the sky, far above the action, and rain fire upon their opponents. Be it airstrikes, missile launchers, or otherwise, it’s easy for them to sit in the safety of their chopper and pick up an easy win. What makes it even more frustrating is that the Heavy Chopper isn’t like the helicopters you would fly around Verdansk and Caldera in Warzone 1. Since it’s heavy, it’s incredibly difficult to bring down with just gunfire. You can launch grenades and rockets at it to make it weaker, and if you’re fortunate enough to be carrying several airstrikes on your team, you could use this to your advantage as the chopper moves fairly slowly, too. Overall, though, many players are calling for a rework to the Heavy Chopper, hoping to make them much harder to abuse in the latter stages of the game, such as with a fuel limit or something similar. Others, though, want them removed. Whether this actually works, and Infinity Ward makes huge changes to the frustrating air vehicle, remains to be seen.

  • Warzone 2 players in uproar over game-altering superpowers in The Boys crossover – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players in uproar over game-altering superpowers in The Boys crossover ActivisionWhen the Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Season 4 Reloaded update landed on Wednesday, July 12, it brought an unexpected and widely-debated feature: superpowers. In a collaboration with Amazon’s The Boys, the update introduces the Temp V Field Upgrade, granting players one of four superpowers: Charge Jump, Electric Shockwave, Teleport, or the increasingly infamous Laser Vision. Modeled after the Homelander character from The Boys, Laser Vision has quickly been denounced as grossly overpowered, capable of melting opponents regardless of their armor or level of preparedness. While Activision designed the power to leave players open to backfire, savvy positioning can render an Operator nearly invincible. However, the Temp V Field Upgrade isn’t the sole source of frustration for players. An unexpected issue has arisen from the sheer abundance of these upgrades, and players seem to be stumbling upon these superpower-granting upgrades everywhere in Warzone 2. This collaboration also introduced new Operator skins and themed cosmetics, and extended beyond just superpowers. Three characters from The Boys series, Homelander, Starlight, and Black Noir, have joined the fight as Operators. Furthermore, players can seemingly expect more celebrity Operator skins coming to both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 in the near future as CoD dataminers have found evidence suggesting rappers Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage will join the roster of Operators. Despite the new Operators’ appeal and the superpowers’ temporary nature, fans are clamoring for Activision to limit these abilities to a special mode rather than integrating them into regular Battle Royale matches. The sentiment among Warzone 2 players is that these superpowers disrupt the game’s realism. “Am I the only one who didn’t ask for superpowers in Warzone?” wrote one Reddit user. Activision’s silence on the superpowers’ duration in the game further compounds the uncertainty and discontent. Their tagline, “Temp V in Call of Duty . . . Temporarily” offers little clarity, leaving players anxious about how long they must contend with the current game dynamics.

  • Warzone 2 players get creative to make snipers viable: “You can’t nerf teamwork” – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players get creative to make snipers viable: “You can’t nerf teamwork” ActivisionA recent video on Reddit showed Warzone 2 players using teamwork to snipe one person at the same time in order to get the kill. The tactic comes after recent nerfs to snipers. Almost every first-person shooter goes through updates that nerf and buff various weapons and classes in order to keep things fair over time. Many of these changes are designed to balance gameplay, but can create problems for players who were used to the previous builds of specific mechanics. It can even deter some from using tactics or mechanics they once enjoyed, requiring them to look into other strategies instead. In Warzone 2, a good example of a recent nerf is the sniper, which was just rebalanced to the point that a clear headshot will no longer kill the enemy player. However, a few clever fans have found a workaround that utilizes the power of teamwork. Warzone 2 snipers team up to take down opponents In a Reddit post by HorthyCZ, the player has teamed up with another sniper, spotting a lone enemy in an open area ahead of them. The opponent is shot twice in a row by each sniper before going down- scoring the duo a successful kill. The Warzone 2 player titled the video clip “Activision can nerf snipers, but they can’t nerf teamwork”. Other players commented below, sharing their own thoughts about the tactic and how it skated around the new limitations of sniper gameplay. One player stated, “I hope they buff snipers again. Until then, teamwork it is!” while another user jokingly added, “Upcoming patch notes, nerfs: RPK, Fennec, Teamwork”. Many Warzone 2 players have taken to forums, Reddit threads, or Twitter to voice their opinions on nerfs and buffs. While changes will likely always cause a stir in the player base, it does lead to some interesting workarounds that may otherwise never have been tried out.

  • Warzone 2 players furious over “garbage” PUBG-style looting system – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players furious over “garbage” PUBG-style looting system ActivisionThe new Warzone 2 looting system is already causing a lot of problems within the Call of Duty community, with many of the playerbase calling for changes. Being able to loot quickly and efficiently in Warzone 2 can give you a huge advantage in any battle royale game, especially when hot dropping into highly contested areas. However, one of the biggest changes in the game is the way players pick up loot in Warzone 2. Unlike the original game, Warzone 2 players now have to go through a PUBG-style inventory system to select the weapons, ammo, armor plates, and other items they wish to claim. This controversial change has significantly slowed the looting process down, creating a more methodical playstyle. This has ultimately led to many members of the CoD community voicing their general distaste for the new mechanic, with both casual and competitive players urging the developers to go back to the original Warzone looting system. Warzone 2 players blast new looting mechanic In Warzone 2, when a player interacts with any non-Supply Box loot containers, such as a duffel bag, or medical case, they will display a loot menu. This feature has a lot of similarities to PUBG, which requires players to carefully select which items and attachments they wish to take off their fallen enemies. This new looting method also functions when a player dies. In fact, the only thing that is quick to pick up is the Primary Weapon, which can be found on the ground next to their Backpack. It’s in this Backpack where the rest of the player’s loot can be found. “Who the f*ck even designed this clown fiesta?” said one angry commenter. “First off the backpack system is a mess. Second, there’s no way to loot items on the ground if they’re close to each other, you have to aim your camera for the perfect angle to loot the item you want, sometimes there’s zero chance to get the item because it’s like glitched somehow.” As a result, looting comes with a much greater risk than previously seen in the original Warzone. While this may be a design decision taken by the devs, it’s clear that the playerbase is not a fan of this change. “Half the time I don’t know what I’m picking up and what’s in my inventory, it’s overwhelming and counterintuitive,” replied another player. “Yeah it’s really a panic, pick up everything and sort it out later in cover,” another commenter responded. Whether the developers will make any adjustments to Warzone 2’s looting mechanics remains to be seen, but for now, you’ll need to take extra care when looting around Al Mazrah.

  • Warzone 2 players furious over frustrating ‘random weapon’ buy station bug – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players furious over frustrating ‘random weapon’ buy station bug ActivisionWarzone players have begun desperately pleading to devs via Twitter for a fix to a buy station bug that gives you a random weapon when buying your loadouts. Despite all the hype, Warzone 2 launched with a number of bugs and headaches that many players hoped wouldn’t impact the game for too long. One of those things was a bug with buy stations, which gives you a seemingly random weapon when you bought your loadout. Some desperate players have taken to pleading with the Call of Duty devs on Twitter for a fix, but it seems to be a low-priority issue as it hasn’t yet been addressed. The bug is not new either, as it has been in Warzone 2 pretty much since launch. Warzone 2 bug turns buy station into a mystery box Others have taken to Reddit to try and drum up awareness for the issue. “I get this and this is the first thing I have found on all of the internet mentioning this issue,” commented one of the users, surprised that the bug is not making waves throughout the community. Some users seemingly figured out the secret behind this nasty issue. “Fill all your loadout slots. If you delete any or have less than 10, the kits get bugged out,” suggested one. Deleting all your custom load-outs and creating them from scratch also seems to do the trick when fixing this issue. It seems like Activision and other devs working on Warzone 2 will have their hands full for the foreseeable future. But there are still a number of things giving players headaches, including an issue that gives players free UAVs. Or the massive outcry of the community against the two-hit melee system and demands for a change.

  • Warzone 2 players furious as thermal optics “ruin” Ranked Play – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players furious as thermal optics “ruin” Ranked Play ActivisionWarzone 2 player TheTacticalBrit called for a thermal optic restriction because of a bug preventing Cold Blooded from working properly. Warzone 2 Ranked Play started its beta at the start of Season 3 Reloaded. In its test state, the developers plan on making a series of changes before releasing a final product. One of the most important aspects that need ironing out is the mode’s ruleset. Just as with Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play, the battle royale restricts features that detract from a competitive experience. Treyarch has actively listened to community feedback and cut off access to specific elements. Most recently, the developers removed cluster mines, bomb drones, and proximity chat. Some community members now want thermal optics removed, as the Cold Blooded perk is allegedly not working as intended. Warzone 2 players fed up with thermal optics The Cold Blooded Perk is supposed to make users undetectable by AI targeting systems and thermal optics. However, Warzone 2 guru and content creator JGOD recommended players start using the Teplo Clear Shot thermal optic in Ranked Play since it’s able to see enemies through smoke grenades even if they have Cold Blooded equipped. JGOD shared his findings on social media and showed a video of thermal optics still being able to see through a smoke grenade, even if the enemy had Cold Blooded. The World Series of Warzone Qualifiers start on May 31, and one of the EU competitors, TheTacticalBrit, demanded a thermal optic ban before the matches begin. “The World Series of Warzone is not going to be a good viewer or player experience if thermals are allowed.” Al Mazrah’s desert landscape and large open spaces make smoke grenades essential for rotating in the final stages. TheTacticalBrit argued that nobody would be able to rotate or move if there isn’t a counter to players using thermal optics. “If Cold Blooded doesn’t work, then thermals shouldn’t be in.” Just days before the WSOW kicks off again, it remains to be seen if Treyarch will step in and restrict thermal optics.

  • Warzone 2 players furious as “shameless” ‘pay-to-win’ bundles arrive in DMZ – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players furious as “shameless” ‘pay-to-win’ bundles arrive in DMZ ActivisionWarzone 2’s Season 3 update just introduced what many are labeling as ‘pay-to-win’ DMZ bundles, as players can load in with free UAVs, bonus perks, and more, just for equipping one of the new premium skins. Ever since Warzone exploded into the cultural phenomenon it once was, CoD players have long been fearful of possible ‘pay-to-win’ microtransactions seeping in. Over the past three years, however, Activision has mostly played it safe, purely introducing cosmetic bundles and Blueprint variations without truly impacting the game’s balance. With Warzone 2’s Season 3 update on April 12 though, it appears that trend finally came to an end. Players are now lashing out across the board after spotting new premium bundles that offer meaningful gameplay benefits over others in the lobby. Exclusively available in Warzone 2’s DMZ mode, five new Operator skins and weapon bundles now afford real boosts. Just by purchasing their respective packs and equipping the skins, players can get a leg up, instantly loading into a match with anything from a Self-Revive Kit, to a UAV, all without having to unlock them the hard way. A new Classic Ghost bundle comes equipped with a 2-plate armor vest, giving those who equip it an instant advantage in early-game fights. A new EOD Specialist Operator skin gives players a Medium Backpack off the rip if they’re willing to purchase the set for 1,200 CoD Points. Across the board, those playing DMZ can now buy their way to objective improvements. As a cherry on top, Activision has also introduced another purchasable upgrade in DMZ through the Season 3 upgrade. Beyond just the bundles outlined above, in order to unlock a fourth Active Duty Slot in the DMZ mode, your only option is to simply buy another bundle for 1,200 CoD Points. Naturally, the community is in uproar over these additions in the latest patch. For some, the immediate effect has left them furious. While for others, it spells doom for the future of the iconic FPS franchise as a whole. “This is literally pay-to-win,” one player said in shock. “One of the worst dev decisions I’ve ever seen, another commented. “Well boys, it was fun while it lasted. Activision basically surpasses EA now with shameless money grabbing. P2W makes this game even more meaningless,” one response read. In some cases, this appears to have been the final straw for players just hanging on. “I’m done with this game, officially,” one community member said on Reddit. “The first Battle Pass I won’t buy for Warzone. They clearly are fully committed to penny-pinching at every angle. I’ve never bought a cosmetic, but I’ve always done Battle Pass. That stops now.” For the time being, Activision is yet to respond to the rising concern among the DMZ playerbase. With Season 3 having only just gone live, and many other issues now rising to the surface, these ‘pay-to-win’ bundles are likely the least of the dev’s concern.

  • Warzone 2 players furious as hackers make overwhelming return – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players furious as hackers make overwhelming return ActivisionWarzone 2 has taken the gaming world by storm, reaching over 25 million players only five days after its release. However, the plethora of new and seasoned players means there’s also a large resurgence of hackers, leaving players furious and some warning they may just “kill the game on PC”. Released in 2020, Warzone was Activision’s main entry in the popular Battle Royale series and has constantly had a soaring fanbase since. Such popularity hasn’t changed with Warzone 2 which, despite being a new title, has already amassed a dedicated and passionate fanbase. Unfortunately, many players are getting extremely frustrated over the influx of hackers taking over each game. From flying boats to aimbots, hackers are making an overwhelming return and some players have already had enough. Warzone 2 players furious over “bullsh*t” hackers moving to “kill the game” While hacking is inevitable in any game, especially free titles, it’s becoming ever-prominent that hacking in Warzone 2 is something of a guarantee rather than a rarity. Players are regularly sharing videos of supposedly cheating players knowing exactly where they are before they come into view. Such videos prompted stories about a “squad of aimbots in a flying boat” who, while ridiculous still meant the player lost out on their game and unfairly was eliminated. The overwhelming addition of hackers is all the more clear on social media where players are reporting seeing “hackers opening streaming with their hacks on TikTok” as well as other popular platforms. The influx of hackers has led to frustrations regarding the games Anti Cheat software, the crossplay between PC and console, and the state of Warzone 2 in general, with many stating it feels like they’re “playing an alpha right now.” While it’s clear Warzone 2 has got a lot of bugs to fix, players are calling for action to stop these cheaters as soon as possible.

  • Warzone 2 players furious as devs announce indefinite Combat Record delay – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players furious as devs announce indefinite Combat Record delay ActivisionWarzone 2’s promised Combat Records have now been delayed as Activision announced the highly-anticipated stat-checking feature won’t arrive in Season 1 Reloaded. From the earliest days in Call of Duty, players have been able to check their in-game statistics. Whether it’s objective time, KD ratio, or even performance with individual weapons, having that insight has been a staple throughout the franchise. However, with the launch of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 alongside it, that trend hasn’t been maintained. On the multiplayer side Combat Records weren’t in at launch but arrived shortly after, allowing players to check their stats at will. On the Battle Royale side, Combat Records have been a little more problematic. Having missed the launch window, developers recently announced Combat Records would be arriving as part of the Season 1 Reloaded patch on December 14. Just hours ahead of this update though, the official Call of Duty Twitter account revealed that would no longer be the case. “Warzone 2 Combat Records will not be launching with Season 1 Reloaded due to the accuracy of the data,” devs announced. A new timeline for its release was not provided, though they assured the team will still be working on the feature in the background. Given this delay, along with earlier news that the arrival of Combat Records will wipe all stats thus far, players clearly aren’t happy. “So February? Wow,” YouTuber JGOD said in the replies, speculating on the feature’s release in the next seasonal update. “Devastating,” pro streamer Jukeyz added. “I was looking forward to grinding like that.” “How do you not have a file tracking simple stats? This is the craziest thing I’ve ever heard,” fellow Warzone streamer Speros chimed in. “No problem,” FaZe Jev replied sarcastically. “This is incredibly intensive work. None of us could imagine the undertaking. Take your time!” Popular CoD analyst TrueGameData even suggested the devs put a “Beta” label on Warzone 2, “not just DMZ,” given the current state of the game and its many missing features. We’ll be sure to keep you posted here as any further details emerge on Combat Records in Warzone 2. But for now, it’d be wise not to hold your breath.

  • Warzone 2 players frustrated over “confusing” Revive Pistol self-rez mechanic – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players frustrated over “confusing” Revive Pistol self-rez mechanic ActivisionWarzone 2’s Revive Pistol has a secondary self-rez mechanic and some players are questioning if the “confusing” mechanic is working as intended. The Revive Pistol is one of Warzone 2’s biggest innovations from its predecessor. The new Field Upgrade allows players to revive their friends from a distance, which can completely alter the course of a fight against an unaware team. It also allows the holder to forsake any long-distance charges to use the gun like a Self Revive kit and bring themselves back into the fray after getting knocked down. This feature has a major drawback though and players are calling for Raven Software to make it clear whether it’s an intended flaw or if it’s just a part of the game that’s been overlooked. Warzone 2 players frustrated over Revive Pistol teamwipe ‘bug’ The big difference between the pistol and a normal Self Revive kit is that the Field Upgrade requires at least one member of the team to stay on their feet in order for it to work. While all of a player’s teammates can be eliminated without interrupting the kit’s effectiveness, a team wipe will interrupt any attempt at a rez from the RP. That leads to situations like the one embedded below where a player that’s attempting to revive themself is left to scratch their head when their last teammate hits the ground and they’re sent to the Gulag or back to the lobby. One commenter detailed the situation perfectly, explaining that the two items operate very differently from each other, but there are still some fans who are convinced that the interruption is the result of a bug and not an intended mechanic. As the player from the video later said, “It doesn’t seem to count the pistol as an actual self-revive which would keep you alive in situations like this.” This will no doubt be the source of a lot of frustration for anyone who’s not in the loop, but the Revive Pistol seems to be functioning as the devs want it to for the time being.

  • Warzone 2 players frustrated over broken UAVs on Ashika Island – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players frustrated over broken UAVs on Ashika Island ActivisionWarzone 2 players are reporting a major problem with UAVs on Ashika Island, claiming that they’re just not working properly in the small Resurgence map. UAVs have been instrumental in Warzone ever since it launched, despite the changes made to the streak between Warzone 1 and 2. While they were made harder to earn when Al Mazrah dropped, preventing players from relentlessly spamming them from Buy Stations when traversing across the map, the devs have since made changes to UAVs that have been lambasted by the community. If that wasn’t bad enough, though, UAVs simply aren’t working properly for many players now, in particular on Ashika Island. Inconsistent UAVs in Warzone 2 As pointed out by content creator TCaptainX, but backed up by a number of other players experiencing similar, UAVs are rarely consistent, especially on the Resurgence map. “When calling in UAVs, there is often a delay and they don’t start sweeping until about 10 seconds after being called,” he explained. In the clip, he calls in a UAV, and after one sweep, it just doesn’t go again for around 10 seconds. He added: “I down and finish an enemy who was not appearing on the mini-map and did not have any perks, therefore he could not be using the Ghost Perk, when he should have been appearing on the UAV.” No doubt developers Raven Software will want to double-check how UAVs are working in the game and fix them if needed.

  • Warzone 2 players slam major Season 4 change made “for bots” – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players slam major Season 4 change made “for bots” ActivisionWarzone 2 players have voiced their concerns over new features coming to the battle royale in Season 4, with some claiming they’re aimed too much at accommodating casual and lower-skilled players. Between the original Warzone and Warzone 2, there have been plenty of complaints from players about the devs focusing on attracting casual players to the battle royale. Many of these complaints have revolved around the devs focusing more on skin bundles and tweaking the time to kill for seemingly lesser-skilled players, rather than targeting some of the longer-standing issues with the game. Some players have claimed this has been done in a bid to keep these casual players for ditching Warzone for something else like Apex Legends. Well, with Season 4 of Warzone 2 around the corner, there is another gripe that players have as they believe a new feature is aimed at accommodating these players again. Warzone 2 players worried about Vengeance Icon in Season 4 What’s got their backs up is the new ‘Vengeance Icon’ that is coming next season alongside the Vondel map in Resurgence. As the name suggests, players be pointed in the direction of where their teammates have been eliminated. Though, it won’t give you the exact location like a UAV. “Honestly just insane how hand holding everything in this game is,” said one annoyed player. “Another thing made for bots,” another commented. “If this doesn’t scream catering to bad/bot players, I don’t know what is,” another said. “I feel like too many of these features will really just make the game feel cluttered and hand-holdish. Like just let the players use at least a bit of critical thinking to figure out where everyone is,” added another. With the indicator not giving an exact location, some players suggested it would be “fair” after a while. It remains to be seen if this icon will be tweaked before long, but we’ll wait to have until Season 4 for that anyway.

  • Warzone 2 players frustrated as Season 4 health change “feels really bad” – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players frustrated as Season 4 health change “feels really bad” ActivisionWarzone 2 players have expressed frustration with some of the changes to health in the battle royale title, as Season 4 promised an improved TTK — but it’s not quite worked out as expected. Health and time-to-kill (TTK) have been major sources of complaints for Warzone 2 players ever since the game launched in November 2022. With the arrival of Season 4, it was confirmed in the patch notes that there would be health changes coming to the game to answer the prayers of players, with an additional 50 maximum HP added. Many believed this would increase the skill gap and allow for more outplays, similar to what was available in Warzone 1, with players able to play out gunfights more fairly and not worry about rotating and getting mowed down in a speedy fashion by campers watching from windows. However, to go with the increased health, developers Raven also nerfed health regeneration speed slightly, from five seconds to seven seconds — and players and some of the top streamers aren’t impressed. Swagg & others call out health change Once players had started trying out the game in its new state, as well as the new Vondel resurgence map, there was generally positive sentiment towards the changes — though this one didn’t quite resonate. One player who called out the change was FaZe Clan’s Kris ‘Swagg’ Lamberson, who said it “feels like the TTK didn’t change.” Warzone expert TrueGameData also expressed his frustration with the change, saying it “feels really bad.” Others on social media have called the change “brutal,” while some argued that it’s fine as long as you equip the Quick Fix perk, though that does mean sacrificing Ghost, which is considered an essential in the battle royale. Whether Raven opts to revert or finetune this change in the future remains to be seen, but for now, you might want to wait a little longer before re-challenging your opponent if they got you weak.

  • Warzone 2 players frustrated as expert proves guns have ‘inconsistent’ recoil patterns – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players frustrated as expert proves guns have ‘inconsistent’ recoil patterns ActivisionWarzone 2 players have been left scratching their heads after in-depth analysis of recoil patterns revealed they are completely random, explaining why gunfights feel so inconsistent in the battle royale. Warzone 2.0 has finally had some time amongst its player base, and fans of the CoD battle royale are eagerly working out the most viable and meta weapons. Naturally, one thing players take into account when trying out new weapons is recoil, with less kick and easy-to-control guns naturally desirable to maximize accuracy. However, where guns in recent CoD titles have had learnable recoil patterns — meaning the weapon kicks in the same manner every time (albeit changed to some degree by attachments) — Warzone 2.0 weapons appear to have far more random recoil patterns. Warzone 2.0 recoil patterns are completely random An investigation conducted by Warzone_Loadout on Twitter revealed that four magazines fired by the same gun with the same attachments and attachment tuning settings produced four entirely different recoil patterns. “This is why long-range fights don’t seem consistent in Warzone 2,” they explained. “Same gun, same attachments, same tuning (max recoil stabilization), same place. 4 different mags and different patterns every time.” The findings were also corroborated by Warzone expert and YouTuber TrueGameData, who stated that his own investigations into recoil have found the same. “Correct,” he said. “Recoil is very random this time. It will be hard to know what to use until we get all the real numbers… And I think maybe a big reason I’m very frustrated with the game. I feel like I can no longer master a weapon, learn its recoil and get good with it.” The revelations sparked confusion and frustration among players, many of whom stated that part of investing time in a game and specific weapons is to improve. That’s incredibly difficult if recoil patterns change every magazine. One argued: “Luck should not be deciding gun fights.” Another said “I’d love to have a set recoil pattern that I can memorize.” However, some defended the mechanic, saying it reflects real-life human error and incorporating a degree of randomness into gunfights levels the playing field somewhat. We’re sure more will be said on Warzone 2.0 weapons and recoil in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes peeled for more details. • Warzone 2 players flame “lazy” WSOW ruleset – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players flame “lazy” WSOW ruleset ActivisionRaven Software added World Series Trios as a playlist, and community members questioned its worth after discovering the ruleset. The World Series of Warzone In-Game Open took place from April 28-30. Activision opened its doors for any trio to test their mettle. 50 teams from both the UK and the US advanced one step closer to taking home the lion’s share of a $1.2 Million prize pool. WSOW Stage 1 Qualifiers commence on May 3, and Raven Software is celebrating the occasion by bringing back WSOW trios. Teams can no longer use the playlist as a way to advance in the tournament but can at least get a taste of what the pros experience. However, the developers provided extra insight into the competitive ruleset, which disappointed some community members who expected more. Warzone 2 community members question need for WSOW trios playlist On May 2, Raven Software replaced standard trios with the WSOW trios playlist. The mode was previously used for teams attempting to earn a spot in the Stage 1 Qualifiers. The developers noted: “We’ve brought the competitive ruleset back.” CoD insider Charlieintel questioned what the competitive ruleset entailed, and Raven Software’s response disappointed. It’s important to note that the WSOW settings don’t necessarily correlate with Warzone Ranked, which is set to release at some point during Season 3. In WSOW, there are no turreted vehicles or heavy choppers. There are also no in-match events such as fire sales, jailbreaks, restocks, or nukes. After Warzone Ranked is released, the WSWO will adopt Ranked’s full list of settings. However, community members slammed a lackluster ruleset and argued that regular trios should have just been left in. Charlieintel sarcastically responded: “Oh, we consider those rules worthy of an entire playlist, ok.” Warzone 2 content creator HunterTV added: “So removing a helicopter nobody uses and four in-game events that don’t happen a majority of the time is considered a new ruleset.” Raven Software attempted to quell the fire, which only gave community members more ammunition. Fortunately, the WSOW Stage 1 Ruleset is only a placeholder until Ranked releases, but community members want restrictions more in line with how MW2 Ranked Play does it.

  • Warzone 2 players flame “embarrassing” WSOW postponement – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players flame “embarrassing” WSOW postponement ActivisionActivision postponed the WSOW Stage 1 EU and NA Qualifiers allegedly because of game crashes, and community members used the announcement to address a larger issue. The 2023 World Series of Warzone suffered a major blow in what’s become a string of unfortunate mishaps. Activision delayed the 2022 WSOW NA Qualifiers due to technical issues, and cheating allegations derailed other matches. On April 20, six days before the 2023 WSOW began, Activision launched an investigation into server issues plaguing Warzone 2. CoD legend OpTic Teep asked how Activision could possibly run a 1.2$ million tournament in just a few days with servers being so unstable. Teep and other community members’ worst fears became a reality as server issues abruptly postponed Qualifiers matches. Warzone 2 players demand the removal of AI enemies On May 3, Activision announced: “Unfortunatley, the WSOW Stage 1 EU and NA Qualifiers have been postponed. We are working on updates and will provide information to players shortly.” Activision did not provide a reason for the postponement, but players speculated it was because of AI enemies crashing games. Warzone 2 streamer ModernWarzone claimed it was because “the servers kept crashing once AI and Strongholds spawned into the map.” The content creator added: “Embarrassing and makes myself and everyone else wonder if Warzone ranked is going to be dead on arrival.” Warzone Loadout provided more context, claiming that the first EU match reset because of a laggy server. And then the second and third games crashed when Strongholds opened. Warzone 2 players have long called for the removal of AI, and Warzone Loadout used this as an opportunity to raise the issue again. “Remove AI from the game, no one cares about them, and they seem to be the reason for terrible servers!” WZ2 YouTuberJGOD joked: “Guess Activision won the WSOW Stage 1 EU Qualifiers, killed all 150 Players” We will provide an update when we learn more about what’s next for the WSOW.

  • Warzone 2 players flame devs for “long overdue” server issue fix – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players flame devs for “long overdue” server issue fix ActivisionActivision announced a fix for the recent uptick in Warzone 2 server-related issues, but some community members couldn’t fully accept a late response. Ever since the launch of Season 3, and possibly even earlier, Warzone 2 players reported problems with servers. Across console and PC, players raised concerns over bullet registration, delayed actions, and massive frame drops. On April 20, Activision launched an investigation into the issue. Call of Duty legend OpTic Teep slammed the developers for acknowledging the problem just six days before the 2023 WSOW began. His worst fears became a reality, as server issues postponed Qualifers matches. After a few weeks of mishaps piling up, Activision finally revealed its findings from the investigation. Activision announce fix for uptick in Warzone 2 server issues On May 9, Activision announced: “We are aware of a recent uptick in server-related issue reports. Investigations uncovered a network buffer memory issue that we have since addressed.” The development team added: “Our teams are actively engaged in the mitigation of further issues. We are committed to continued progress and will update as we are able.” Community members took issue with the developers calling it a recent issue. Warzone 2 content creator HunterTV responded: “This is recent? This has been an issue for a long time.” A second user claimed: “Recent uptick? These have been sh*t since the start of Season 2.” Community members didn’t appreciate having to wait since April 20 for any kind of change, as a third player stated: “I get that it takes some time to fix it, but why did it take weeks in the first place to get this info to the devs.” There is still no word on when the WSOW Stage 1 EU and NA Qualifers will take place. Activision delayed them for a second time on May 3, as server issues still plagued matches. Hopefully, this latest fix makes servers stable enough for Warzone 2 Ranked Play, which launches at the start of Season 3 Reloaded.

  • Warzone 2 players flame devs after witnessing wild “connection adversity” clutch – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players flame devs after witnessing wild “connection adversity” clutch ActivisionWarzone 2 can be a mixed bag when the server connection isn’t perfect, and a few players decided to vent about the problem after watching a miraculous lag-filled clutch. Things move fast in Warzone 2, and even a little bit of lag can completely ruin a team’s momentum if it happens at an unlucky moment. One squad was on the verge of winning a match when things started to get a little funky. Instead of panicking and letting the incident ruin their chances, cooler heads prevailed, and they collected an odd-but-satisfying win. Afterward, the POV player was relaxed about the situation, but several others were fired up on their behalf. Warzone 2 players roast devs after bizarre clutch In the clip, user FredgeZapp navigated through a ton of rubberbanding while collecting the last kills of the game. It would be nothing special on its own, but the fact that it takes two whole magazines and a veritable barrage of melees to get the job done makes it pretty impressive. When posting the video, Zapp reminded people that lag isn’t the end of the world and that it’s better to push through it than to instantly tilt. “In the face of server connection adversity, it’s important not to panic,” his caption reads. However, there weren’t many who shared that same kind of brightside view of the situation. Thinly veiled insults towards Activision, like “small indie company” and “billion-millisecond ping,” made it to the top of the thread, standing atop a small mountain of other critical messages. One commenter harkened back to a simpler time in the gaming world, recalling that they used to be able to “run Starcraft off of dialup.” Another insinuated that the game’s servers are actually getting progressively worse. “I swear the servers are worse now than on launch day? On launch, they were overwhelmed, but all our games played fine…” Whether or not it’s true can likely only be answered by the devs themselves, but the fans certainly seemed convinced.

  • Warzone 2 players fear riot shields after secret Season 5 buff – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players fear riot shields after secret Season 5 buff ActivisionSeason 5 buffed the Bomb Squad perk, sending a collective chill down the spines of Warzone 2 community members worried about riot shield users. Riot shields dominated in the original Warzone, but they haven’t quite had the same impact in the battle royale sequel. You will still run into plenty of riot shield users in MW2 multiplayer or WZ2 solo matches, but they no longer pose the threat they once did. Despite essentially disappearing from Warzone 2’s meta, players may be in for a rude awakening in Season 5. A buff to the bomb squad perk means using a riot shield comes with little to no risks. Are riot shields meta again in Warzone 2? Buried in the Season 5 patch notes, Bomb Squad now protects against death from explosive equipment stuck directly to the player when fully armored. So, riot shield users can no longer be killed with one lethal grenade while using the controversial weapon. Warzone 2 YouTuber JGOD claimed: “Bomb Squad + Riot Shield might be a problem in Warzone after the update.” However, there may be a new counter, as the seasonal update also reduced the damage from drilling when a player is stuck with a drill charge. This provides a larger opportunity for death from the explosion, which may act as a perfect counter to riot shields. A potential counter wasn’t enough to ease worried community members. Warzone Loadout responded: “Oh yeah, did not think about that. Definitely going to see a lot of this combo in solos. Paired that with the buffed chimera mid-range, and you have an interesting loadout.” As content creator Peak argued, not every Warzone player is worried: “Riot Shields in Warzone 2 are HORRIBLE compared to Warzone 1. It’s literally so bugged to the point where you can just shoot and melee through it.” Other community members jokingly called out JGOD for exposing the secret to everyone. “Why would you tweet this and give ideas?” It remains to be seen how much of an impact this buff actually has on the number of riot shield users in Warzone 2. For more, make sure to check out the full Season 5 patch notes.

  • Warzone 2 players fear DMZ will become a “forgotten” game mode – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players fear DMZ will become a “forgotten” game mode ActivisionDMZ players urge the Warzone 2 devs to address PvP problems before the game mode fades away into irrelevance. Infinity Ward’s take on an extraction shooter, DMZ, hasn’t quite reached the highs as originally hoped, but the game mode boasts a passionate fan base. However, after a string of “disappointing updates,” some players are starting to lose faith. Public sentiment began wavering in March. DMZ streamer Stodeh flamed a lack of replayability, long-term progression, and an overwhelming amount of PVP. And then, after the Season 4 Reloaded update in July, Westie claimed DMZ is “chalked.” The Warzone 2 season streamer attributed his frustrations to a long list of bugs “ruining” DMZ. As a result, players urge the devs to inject some much-needed life into the game mode if there is any chance to save it. Warzone 2 players label DMZ as “20% Fun and 80% Frustrating DMZ players took to Reddit and voiced their frustrations about the current state of their favorite game mode. The post creator blasted a “frustrating” amount of PvP combat ruining a mode originally designed as a primarily PvE experience. “I don’t want DMZ to fade into the forgotten 3rd game mode pile like Extinction, IWZ, WW2Z, and ExoZ. I just want a decent PvE experience since MW2 doesn’t have one.” To fix the issue, the player suggested a separate PvE-only playlist for squads looking for more of a casual experience. Other community members agreed. One player responded: “I really dislike the PvP part of it too. I would love a PvE-only mode.” A second user added: “Having a separate PvE playlist where everyone can’t hurt each other and just cooperate sounds like a dream.” As a byproduct of players engaging in too much PvP combat, it indirectly makes it a near-impossible experience for solo players taking on full teams. A third player argued: “PvP is somewhat unfair if you play solo. There is absolutely no chance to stand against 3-5 players whenever you face them. It is boring and unfair.” It remains to be seen if Sledgehammer Games has any plans to bring back DMZ in Modern Warfare 3.

  • Warzone 2 players fall in love with the idea to combine DMZ with Zombies – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players fall in love with the idea to combine DMZ with Zombies Infinity WardWarzone 2 players are in love with an idea fan proposed to combine the PvPvE extraction shooter aspect of DMZ with the Call of Duty Zombies gameplay. Player imagination, ideas, and suggestions will always be a big part of any gaming community, whether it’s a suggestion to add John Wick to the game, or imagining a new game mode that combines your favorite aspects of any given franchise coming to a game. As a matter of fact, one Warzone 2 player has been very outspoken about his ideas to combine aspects of modes like Cold War’s Outbreak with Warzone 2’s DMZ. And other fans of the franchise are absolutely loving the idea! Replacing the enemy combatant AI would fix some of the problems players voiced in the past while also bringing a fresh new PvP aspect that was not previously seen in Zombie game modes in Call of Duty. Warzone 2 fans love the idea of combining DMZ with Zombies TheGhostofHope prompted the discussion with his tweet where he said “these two modes combined into one would go so freaking hard,” followed by a thumbnail of DMZ and Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Outbreak. Fans of the franchise love the idea and suggested their own mechanics that could ship with this imaginary fan-suggested mode. “Deep down we all want DMZ zombies: 1 Mystery Box on the map, A ton of zombies mixed with other soldier NPCs and player squads. You can extract wonder weapons for your contraband locker. You’re completing faction missions for requiem and other groups,” suggests one user. Hope further explained why he thinks the idea also has merit for the player. “Honestly think it would also just be an all-around better experience for the player. There’s no getting shot in the ass by a soldier AI with zombies. There are different types of zombies and such and you know what you’re dealing with when you run into each version.” For all the latest gaming news and updates, be sure to check out Dexerto’s full coverage here.

  • Warzone 2 players embrace DMZ bounty feature: “Bring it on” – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players embrace DMZ bounty feature: “Bring it on” ActivisionSeason 4 Reloaded introduced a new DMZ feature to disincentivize killing too many enemies. However, some players considered this a challenge and dared bounty hunters to fight them. First and foremost, Infinity Ward marketed DMZ as an extraction shooter. As such, players primarily focus on looting and completing missions while sporadically engaging in PvP or PvE gunfights. Unfortunately, PvP combat got a little too out of hand, and squads started targeting players, making it impossible for them to loot or complete missions. The extraction shooter slightly devolved into a more traditional battle royale experience in the eyes of many. In March, DMZ expert Stodeh cited: “Frustration from solo players because of overwhelming PVP.” The YouTuber urged the developers to add a global bounty system that targeted players who exceeded five PvP kills. As irony would have it, Infinity Ward took him up on his word and added a bounty system in DMZ. Unfortunately for Stodeh and others, it may not accomplish the goal they hoped. DMZ bounty system explained The Warzone 2 devs did not provide a specific number. But the Season 4 Reloaded blog states: “If a Player and their Squad kill too many Players in DMZ, that high-kill individual Player will be issued a warning. If they kill another Player, they can expect a Bounty on their head.” A player with a bounty on their head has their location revealed to the rest of the lobby. Killing a player with a bounty awards $10,000 to each squad member. It’s important to note that bounties are not active in Building 21 or Koschei Complex. One player responded: “This a good thing. Some people just want to explore the map, do missions, and try to get better without sweats griefing them.” Other community members took the news in a different direction. A second player claimed: “As someone who routinely demolishes players in the DMZ, I look forward to this. Come and get your bounty.” DMZ’s bounty system nostalgically reminded players of The Division. “If anyone remembers the division’s dark zone, then this is basically the rogue agent system. Mindlessly killing players should always be an option, but should also be a risk.” It will be interesting to see if this change cuts down on PvP engagements or unintentionally makes it harder to complete missions and loot. • Warzone 2 players divided over “steep” loadout drop prices – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players divided over “steep” loadout drop prices ActivisionWarzone 2 finally re-introduced loadout drops to buy stations on December 20, but expensive prices have divided community members. Infinity Ward caught flack for not including loadout drops at the launch of Warzone 2. Instead, players acquired loadouts by completing Strongholds, waiting for the public event drop, or purchasing primary weapons from buy stations. The design choice forced players to rely more on ground loot and less on their custom weapons. Some community members supported the new direction for gameplay, but others wanted loadout weapons easier. WZ2’s development team listened to both sides of the feedback and decided to backtrack on their initial decision. Loadout drops are officially back in buy stations, but a hefty price tag has community members conflicted. Warzone 2 loadout drop prices split community members Loadout drops returning to buy stations occurred in incremental steps. The Season 1 Reloaded update increased the number of Strongholds per match, and two days later, another update doubled the number of buy stations and moved the loadout drop public event sooner. Finally, the developers reduced the price of primary weapons at buy stations and added loadout drops back into buy stations. Loadout drop prices vary, depending on the playlist. Warzone 2 players debated the loadout drop price on Reddit. The thread features over 1,000 comments of players going back an forth. One player argued, “only a matter of time before the money gets increased on the map even more, and the cost of these drops become even less. 2 months and we’ll be back to WZ1 where floor loot is useless, and everyone has a loadout 3 minutes into the match.” A second player claimed, “I think it is great. There should be variety to get a loadout (Stronghold, waiting for 2nd ring, or running contracts for $). If this were cheaper, no one would touch strongholds or rush second loadouts.” The argument tends to lean in favor of the prices, as a third player stated, “I think the prices are fair, it’s going in the right direction where it forces players to complete objectives and move the flow of the game.” It will always be impossible to please all parties involved, but first impressions appear to be positive over loadout drops returning to buy stations and their price.

  • Warzone 2 players divided over potential Season 3 sniper buff – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players divided over potential Season 3 sniper buff ActivisonSome Warzone 2 players believe Season 3 could buff sniper rifles, creating a divide among players. In Warzone 1, sniper rifles one shot kill enemies if you hit a headshot. Infinity Ward backtracked for the battle royale sequel, preventing snipers from one-hit killing. The design choice made sniper rifles significantly less popular. According to WZ Ranked, the top-class option only has a pick rate of 3.9%. During Season 2, incendiary ammunition enabled snipers to one-shot kill enemies again. After one week, the developers stepped in and reverted the change. As Season 3 approaches, it looks as though the developers may give one-shot sniper rifles another go, and fans don’t know how to feel. Warzone 2 community split over one-shot snipers In Season 2 Reloaded, the developers tested one-shot kill snipers again. During the St. Patricks Day event, a special Victus XMR sniper didn’t just instant kill to the head, but after any successful shot. Community members were annoyed when the powerful weapon was removed. In the early Season 3 blog, the developers stated: “Patch notes will include balancing updates, such as a crucial change to sniper rifles.” Players inferred that means another go around of snipers being able to one-shot kill enemies, resulting in a debate on Reddit. WZ1 players grimaced at the thought of going up against one-shot snipers, such as the Kar98k and Swiss. “One-shot snipers were fine, but the Kar98k and Swiss were obnoxious to fight against in certain close/mid-range engagements and needed to be nerfed.” One user argued that to counter an unbalanced meta: “If they are going to make changes for WZ2, heavy snipers should be one shot, and marksman rifles should be two shot.” Warzone 2 players have a love-and-hate relationship with snipers. If the class does return to dominance in Season 3, it will be interesting to see how much the meta shifts.

  • Warzone 2 players divided over “pay-to-win” optic – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players divided over “pay-to-win” optic ActivisionWarzone 2 players can’t agree on whether a new thermal scope provides an unfair advantage or not. Activision has caught flack over its microtransaction practices in Modern Warfare 2 & WZ2. For example, some players slammed Season 5’s Tactical Pet feature, as it gives players a sound cue about nearby enemies. And previously, Season 3 introduced ‘pay-to-win’ DMZ bundles, awarding players free UAVS, bonus perks, and more just for purchasing an operator bundle. MW2 muddied the waters even more by controversially locking the fan-favorite blue dot reticle behind a paywall Weapon optics are in the news again, as a new store bundle features an exclusive holographic scope. Warzone 2 players split over pay-to-win holographic scope Fans of competitive Warzone will be familiar with how strong smoke grenades are in the battle royale sequel. The Bonus Perk Resupply recharges equipment over 25 seconds, allowing players to use smoke grenades to flee gunfights or rotate constantly. The only way to counter smoke grenades is by using thermal scopes to see through smoke. Players singled out the SZ Holtherm as being the best thermal optic, and it may have indirectly received a buff in Season 5. CharlieIntel reported: “The new Dark Rituals III Bundle in the store features a different Holotherm scope that has better vision.” The Call of Duty insider showed a side-by-side comparison of the two scopes, and some community members argued that the store bundle version makes it easier to see enemies. On one side of the aisle, a player argued: “Not that much of a difference to cry about it.” Meanwhile, other community members said the optic unfairly highlights enemies in the water. And players pointed out that it dominates on Vondel during foggy weather events. A second user claimed: “They are going on hard on pay to win now, pathetic.” Warzone 2 fans questioned how far Activision will go: “They’ll just keep adding more and more pay 2 win elements to see how much they can get away with.” For more, make sure to check out the rest of our Warzone coverage.

  • Warzone 2 players divided over “pay to win” BlackCell pets in Season 5 – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players divided over “pay to win” BlackCell pets in Season 5 ActivisionWarzone 2 players have been a little split over the new BlackCell Tactical Pets in Season 5, with some of them labeling the furry companions as “pay to win.” With the arrival of Season 5, Warzone 2 and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 have undergone some big changes. Most notably, the weapon pool has been shaken up in a big way, causing another shift in the meta in the battle royale. However, that isn’t the only thing causing a stir. In the new BlackCell part of the battle pass, players are able to get their hands on Tactical Pets. These fluffy companions have a bite to them, as they give players a unique finishing move to see off enemies. Though, they can’t be hurt themselves. That’s not all, though. If you equip a tactical pet, they will give you a sound cue about nearby enemies provided you have High Alert equipped. Yet, some players have quickly crowned it as “pay to win.” Warzone 2 players believe BlackCell dogs are “pay to win” The discussion around the “pay to win” pets has taken over corners of social media, with a number of CoD players being concerned about them. “You don’t have to be in the FOV of the dog or the player btw, the dog growls when you’re 1 level above or below the person as well. That’s just f*cking ridiculous lol, it’s P2W as hell,” stated Redditor LOKTAROGAAAAH. “I guess it’s a mild buff to high alert cos you get an audio cue as well as a visual one.” “This game just keeps getting dumber,” added another. “This is worse than those DMZ vests.. dog is literally high alert,” another commented. Not everyone agrees, though, stating that the pets somewhat take away from High Alert with their audio cue. “Honestly though the dog bark ruins hearing accurate footsteps because it barks in the middle of them,” one player argued. “It’s dumb but I feel like it’s worse for the player with the dog. It feels like something exclusively to help people who aren’t very good,” another said. The dogs work in all three modes – Warzone, multiplayer, and DMZ – so expect to see them more often anyway.

  • Warzone 2 players divided over new 2v2 Gulag: “It’s not fun” – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players divided over new 2v2 Gulag: “It’s not fun” ActivisionWarzone 2 changed the Gulag from a 1v1 match to 2v2 with a random teammate, dividing community members. The Gulag revolutionized battle royales when it was first introduced in Warzone 1. After dying, players earned a shot at redeploying if they won a 1v1 match against another fallen foe. Warzone 2 brought the fan-favorite feature back with an added twist. Instead of a 1v1 bout, the developers decided to pair random players with each other in a 2v2 contest. The concept relies on players using the new proximity chat feature, which allows players to communicate with teammates and enemies in-game. By wiping out the two opposing players, you and your teammate will earn a spot back in Al Mazrah. The Jailer adds another compelling wrinkle. Through utilizing proximity chat, all four players respawn if the AI Jailer is killed. One side of the aisle believes the new Gulag is a refreshing spin on an old formula, while the opposing side doesn’t like putting their life in the hands of random players. 2v2 Gulag splits Warzone 2 players A Warzone 2 player posted on Reddit, “Whoever suggested 2v2 gulag needs a slap.” The user posted a clip showing their teammate leaving a Gulag match, forcing the player to take on two enemies alone. The video sparked a heated debate in the comment section with an unclear majority opinion. One player responded, “I love it. Sometimes I get wrecked, and sometimes I’ll get both kills, but it’s fun playing with a random and not knowing what to expect.” A second user responded, “it’s not fun having your teammate die constantly, and now you have a 1v2. I’ve had a teammate get a kill in gulag twice since I started playing.” Killing the Jailer revives all four players, so a third person asked why more teams don’t just fight the Jailer. “If everyone just teamed up against the jailer, everyone goes back; it seems more beneficial, and it’s better for everyone.” The Warzone 2 community can’t reach a consensus on the new Gulag, and neither side will concede.

  • Warzone 2 players divided over “horrible” mortar strikes – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players divided over “horrible” mortar strikes ActivisionMortar strikes in Warzone 2 should pose a threat. However, some players don’t believe the kill streak is strong enough to make a difference. Kill streaks in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer matches greatly differ from what you see in Warzone 2. There are times in which you can’t even spawn in multiplayer, as missiles rain down from the sky and single-handedly turn a game on its head. Infinity Ward ensured that kill streaks have the same earth-shattering impact in its battle royale. For example, the Warzone 2 devs removed backpacks in Season 2 to prevent players from hoarding kill streaks, then nerfed bomb drones in Season 3 so they couldn’t one-hit kill a fully armored player. The Warzone 2 devs have made it very clear through updates that they don’t want kill streaks turning the tides of a match. But some community members have fired back, claiming it’s gone too far. Warzone 2 players question strength of mortar strikes A Warzone 2 player claimed on Reddit mortar strikes aren’t scary enough. “Whenever I see that a mortar strike is dropped on my head, I barely even move, knowing it will most likely miss even if it’s dropped exactly where I am.” They suggested a reduced spread and damage increase to make mortar strikes more relevant. But when it comes to precision airstrikes, the Reddit user knows it’s best not to mess around and hide immediately. Some community members agreed while others argued that mortars already work as intended. One player claimed: “They’re not supposed to be a big killing tool. It’s area denial/suppression to stop people posting on a wall and sniping at you.” A second user agreed: “I think mortar strikes are in a good place, spread and damage-wise. I use them to catch teams running away from the gas.” On the other side of the aisle, a community member argued: “The amount of times I’ve downed someone only to have a mortar strike not finish them off is way too high.” It remains to be seen if Infinity Wad has any intention to re-work the kill streak.

  • Warzone 2 players divided over gameplay change: “Fighting in water should be a last resort” – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players divided over gameplay change: “Fighting in water should be a last resort” ActivisionWarzone 2 introduced swimming and diving mechanics, and to this day it remains highly divisive as some claim it provides an unfair advantage. The sequel to the standalone Call of Duty battle royale expanded on the water combat and water movement options from the original Warzone. However, the feature has divided the player base with many claiming players under the water have a massive advantage over those who are not in it, as players not that characters under the water are hard to see and are immune to gunfire at certain depths. One player recorded an infuriating encounter on Ashika Island’s waterways where they could not hit a player diving under the water who kept calling in airstrikes. Warzone 2 players puzzled by the water combat dynamics An April 9 post on the CODWarzone Reddit by hellarios852 highlights how the water mechanics can be used to escape enemy players’ slight line and even call in killstreaks. The post, which is titled: “Ground to water combat is terrible… how do I not get at least a single hit marker,” features footage of the Redditor shooting at a swimming player with an assault rifle, not hitting a single shot according to the game. One player responded: “yea, unless someone is right on top of the water it seems you can’t hit them.” A second user argued: “fighting while in water should be a last resort with massive drawbacks.” Community members also pointed out that players diving under the water become very hard to track while the diving player has great visibility, offering the player in water plenty of chances to catch the other player unprepared when they surface. Players agree that swimming has its uses but could use some changes. “They should have just made it like Blackout. It was essentially shoot underwater and vice versa for up to 2 meters both ways. Any gun as well, it made for great underwater end of storm fights and clutch wins,” suggested one comment. Next time you are fighting your way through Ashika remember to stay away from the water as enemies could surprise you at a drop of a hat.

  • Warzone 2 players divided by overpowered swimming mechanic – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players divided by overpowered swimming mechanic Activision BlizzardWarzone 2 introduced swimming, and while some players love the new mechanic, others believe it provides an unfair advantage. The battle royale sequel emphasizes water combat more than the original Warzone, but the feature’s implementation has had polarizing results. Players blasted final circles for forcing them into underwater combat. Pistol users gain a massive advantage, as it’s the only weapon that can be fired while underwater. A Warzone 2 player utilized the water to take out three enemies and secure a victory. Community members couldn’t agree on if the play deserved praise or criticism for abusing the mechanic. Warzone 2 players split over swimming feature A Warzone 2 player cleverly used water as cover, peaking their head out at the perfect time to take out the unsuspecting foes and win the match. In the post, the player claimed, “water is my favorite part about WZ2.” But not everyone agreed. One player responded, “water is legit the most underutilized tactical advantage in this game.” A second user argued, “water is kind of broken. It should give you a disadvantage, but more often than not, it doesn’t. You can instantly hide (like you did), and the water works like a shield, even if you are at the surface.” Community members also pointed out you can stay underwater for an egregious period of time. A Redditor claimed it takes about 26 seconds before you drown. Players came to the agreement that swimming is fun but could use a slight nerf. “I’ve won at least 5 games I had no business winning because water is super OP. Almost guarantee the amount of time you can hold your breath will be nerfed.” The next time you find yourself in the final circle, consider diving in an using water to your advantage.

  • Warzone 2 players discover simple trick that massively boosts FPS – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players discover simple trick that massively boosts FPS ActivisionWarzone 2 Season 3 has seen some players struggle with performance issues but now the COD community has figured out that changing a single audio setting can massively boost FPS. The release of Warzone 2 Season 3 saw some players suffer from unexplained performance drops. In extreme cases, these drops exceeded 50 FPS. Even when running identical graphics settings as before those impacted were getting much worse frame rates. Not ideal in a fast-paced competitive shooter like Call of Duty. These frame drops have even leaked over into Modern Warfare 2, especially in large-scale game modes like Ground War and Invasion. How to boost Warzone 2 FPS in Season 3 A member of the CODWarzone subreddit posted an FPS fix for Warzone 2. The post highlights an audio setting that can drastically boost FPS for those that haven’t changed it yet. The setting in question is Game Voice Channel which can be found in the audio settings interface. Switching Game Voice Channel to ‘Friends Only’ can nearly double your frame rate in some cases. Head to the Warzone 2 main menu – Select the Settings tab and go to Audio settings – Scroll down to ‘Game Voice Channel’ – Click to bring up the drop-down menu – Choose ‘Friends Only’ – A few respondents were surprised at how effective this fix is with one saying: “The solution really works! FPS increased from 130 to 170 just when switching the voice channel to friends only.” Another response theorized why this fix works in the first place: “All Lobby just throws you into a 150-person voice channel and unmutes anyone within a 15-meter range, so you’re still processing all the audio you’re not hearing.” Whilst the fix is proving useful not all users see it as beneficial due to the game modes they play: “I play DMZ a lot where proximity chat is a must.” Without an explanation from Infinity Ward, no one can be certain how audio channels and FPS are linked. Regardless, there’s reason to be optimistic about an official solution being implemented soon with the devs already fixing Ground War’s matchmaking issues that were present at the start of Season 3.

  • Warzone 2 players discover exploit to carry over and sell Plunder loot – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players discover exploit to carry over and sell Plunder loot The Warzone 2 community has discovered a new exploit that allows players to carry over loot from Plunder and sell it for cash. Plunder was added to Warzone 2 on April 25, seeing the original Warzone game mode return at last. It challenges teams to gather as much cash as possible whilst fighting off other squads. The addition of new content brings new bugs though with Season 3 alone breaking Ground War, trapping players in the Gulag, and even downing all players before they land. With the arrival of Plunder, a new bug has been discovered that risks potentially ruining Warzone 2’s economy. Warzone 2 players sell Plunder loot for cash As posted on Reddit, a Warzone 2 player has discovered an exploit that lets you transfer over Plunder loot and sell it in the battle royale modes. The attached video shows the user accessing a Buy Station in Ashika Island’s Waterway with the ‘Sell Valuables’ option available. After selecting the option they are able to sell a Game Console and Classified Documents for $12,000. The post explains: “I had a few leftover sellable items from my last Plunder match still in my inventory even after a couple matches of Warzone.” Ordinarily, the ‘Sell Valuables’ option does not appear in Warzone 2’s battle royale modes. It is exclusive to DMZ and Plunder, game modes that both revolve around making cash. Members of the Warzone 2 community were not impressed with one user responding: “How the f**k does that work? What are these devs even doing?” Equally, another commenter was frustrated with the state of Warzone 2: “This game is such a disaster, and yet people are still buying skins.” Infinity Ward has yet to address or add this bug to the official MW2 and Warzone 2 Trello board. As a result, it is currently not clear if or when the bug will be fixed.

  • Warzone 2 players demand massive changes for “stupid” two-hit melees – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players demand massive changes for “stupid” two-hit melees Activision BlizzardCall of Duty: Warzone 2 players aren’t happy with the two-hit melee system, which many think is far too overpowered. Some Warzone 2 users strongly detest the title’s hand-to-hand combat mechanics; however, the system wasn’t favored in Warzone, either. Footage of the original battle royale’s broken melee system often made the rounds online. The two-hit combo that could down enemies especially ignited frustrations amongst community members. Notably, the latter attack has returned in the Call of Duty: Warzone sequel to the chagrin of many dedicated players. Warzone 2 users call for a melee system overhaul Dull-Caterpillar3153 posed the following question in the Warzone subreddit – “Can we all agree that two-hit-melee is stupid?” The Redditor noted the same maneuver in the original Warzone gave players “some of the cheesiest easy kills,” before lamenting its return in Warzone 2. At the very least, they continued, such an attack should require four hits before knocking out an opponent. That a sniper rifle often requires multiple shots to down a foe further compounds the issue, the Redditor argued. Several responses to the post tend to agree with the original poster’s line of thinking. “Any headshot should be stronger than a melee, period. Regardless of gun,” one person replied. Someone else chimed in by sharing their own experience with the inconsistencies between gunshots and melee attacks. “Shot a guy three times in [the] face with SMG while he was lunging toward me, he still got his two hits in on me, boom I was dead.” The general consensus throughout the thread is that Warzone 2’s melee should require three hits or more to down another player. It remains to be seen whether or not the developers will address these critiques.

  • Warzone 2 players demand sniper buffs to fix underpowered rifles – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players demand sniper buffs to fix underpowered rifles ActivisionWarzone 2.0 has been out for some time now, and one key complaint that many players have had is around sniper rifles, demanding they be buffed to make them more viable in the battle royale sequel. Since Warzone 2 dropped on November 16, players have spent a lot of time leveling up their weapons, figuring out the meta, and working out the best way to play across Al Mazrah. While weapons such as the RPK, Fennec 45, and Taq 56 have quickly made their marks on the Warzone 2.0 meta, there’s one weapon class that have failed to make much of an impact entirely: the sniper rifles. While once upon a time, players were desperately calling for sniper and marksman rifles to be nerfed in Verdansk, now the opposite is ringing true in Al Mazrah. Warzone sniper rifle buff? All across social media ever since the game launched, players have been demanding that snipers are buffed to make them more usable in the game, as some of them fail to one-shot enemies even with a headshot. Some have argued that they’re fine with marksman rifles taking more than one shot, but not .50 cal snipers. Finally, this Reddit post from Bigcarts addressed the same issue, picking up a lot of steam from frustrated players, baffled at how certain guns, such as the Fennec, can melt opponents so quickly, while sniper rifles barely make a dent on fully-plated opponents. Evidently, there is a huge demand for snipers to be buffed in Warzone 2.0, but whether developers Infinity Ward decide to actually make significant changes remains to be seen.

  • Warzone 2 players demand nerf to “ridiculous” self-revives – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players demand nerf to “ridiculous” self-revives ActivisionCall of Duty Warzone 2 players are calling for a major overhaul to the self-revive system moving forward as they believe it is “ridiculous” in its current state. When Warzone 2 was officially announced, many fans of the Call of Duty battle royale were excited to see what changes the developers had in store for them following on from the original Warzone. Tweaks were made to the game’s looting, loadouts, and even movement mechanics, which have all had mixed responses with the fanbase. The changes to looting have allowed players to stack up on self-revives, so it’s no longer a case of just having one self-revive in your back pocket. This has caused plenty of annoyance for players, with Dr Disrespect being one of the prominent voices questioning the devs’ decisions. Now, players want things to be addressed with a change. Warzone 2 players want self-revives limited to one per player Redditor MortyCloneyt highlighted just how “ridiculous” the self-revives can be, as they showcased a clip from a recent game of theirs. After the player took down an enemy in the late game, they were able to use a handful of the eight self-revives they had picked up in the match to bag a win. This came despite the fact they were sat deep in the gas and out of sight of any other players. “I hope Season 2 addresses this,” said one player, as others jumped on board with the calls for change. “Such an easy fix too, just limit the number of Self Res you can pick up to 1,” added another. Other players suggested that self-revives should be removed outright, but doubted that the devs will make any change to the system in Season 2 anyway. It’s clear that it has become a massive bugbear in the community, which is usually when the devs spring into action, but we’ll just have to wait and see what happens as they have already lined up some big changes for next season.

  • Warzone 2 players demand nerf for “lame” self revives – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players demand nerf for “lame” self revives ActivisionWarzone 2 introduced a backpack system, but some community members believe players are abusing the new feature by stacking self-revives. Looting and inventory management are always hot-button issues for battle royale titles. It’s an ongoing struggle for developers trying to create the perfect system. Warzone 2 takes notes from PUBG, displaying a loot menu when interacting with a duffel bag or medical case. Players blasted the “counter-intuitive” looting system and shared a similar sentiment for the new backpack feature. Warzone 2 allows players to store items like meds, ammo, cash, gadgets, and kill streaks in medium or large backpacks. Backpacks change how players approach managing their resources, but some believe it led to exploitative practices. There is currently no limit on how many kill streaks or self-revives a player can carry, resulting in unnecessarily annoying engagements. Warzone 2 players slam over-reliance on self revives A Reddit user shared a clip of a player winning a Warzone 2 match, primarily because they were able to hold more than one self-revive. The tool allows plays to revive themselves after being downed without the assistance of a teammate. One player responded, “Self revives should need to be equipped like the stim pistol and gas mask to be used. If you carry extra, it’s just to share and not to have unlimited revives.” A second user added, “I actually think the game would be better off without self revive… You can come back via gulag, buyback, and jailbreak, and on top of that, every third medicine cabinet holds a self-revive. I get genuinely surprised when I kill someone who hasn’t self-res.” Community members fired back that self-revives are essential for solo games because players don’t have the option of being revived by teammates. However, it’s clear a majority of the users in the Reddit thread believe that there needs to be either a decrease in the number of lootable self-revives or a limit on the amount players can carry.

  • Warzone 2 players demand nerf for “insane” melee strength – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players demand nerf for “insane” melee strength ActivisionWarzone 2 players are growing tired of getting taken down by enemies using fists instead of weapons. Season 3 Reloaded marks the introduction of Warzone 2 ranked play. Teams of three will need to climb through seven divisions before ultimately attempting to secure a top 250 spot. Trios earn skill ratings through match placement, kills, and assists. Users earn rewards based on how high they reach during a season. With so much on the line, every team will try to find any advantage they can. One of the best times to rack up kills to earn a skill rating is when everyone first lands. Typically it would be foolish to bring fists to a gunfight, but that isn’t the case in Warzone 2. Instead of rushing to loot weapons upon landing, players are earning easy eliminations through melee. Warzone 2 players fed up with overpowered melee strength Warzone 2 streamer TCaptainX urged the developers to: “look into how melee has a ‘glue’ like effect to enemies.” The streamer shared a video, and it appears that his operator locked onto an enemy while using melee. TCaptainX elaborated: “I shouldn’t be able to melee an enemy while they’re running away at a full sprint. The lunch strength of melee, in general, promotes melee over shooting in close quarters.” Other community members agreed. Warzone 2 pro NYSL Aydan responded: “This is insane. Needs to be nerfed for sure.” CoD leaker TheGhostOfHope claimed: “It’s a feature, not a bug. They nerfed this in WZ1 a long, long time ago. You can see and understand why it’s still in WZ2.” Hopefully, the tactic doesn’t become too much of an issue in ranked matches.

  • Warzone 2 players demand major TTK changes to solve “baffling” AI issues – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players demand major TTK changes to solve “baffling” AI issues ActivisionWarzone 2 players have called for major changes to AI time-to-kill, claiming they’re far too hard to kill amid a series of “poor design” choices. Despite Warzone 2’s popularity, complaints from the player base have centered on a number of design decisions that distinguish it from its predecessor battle royale. The 2v2 Gulag has come in for criticism, as has the game’s incredibly fast TTK. Another common basis for complaint has been the inclusion of AI in standard matches. Specifically, players have taken issue with the bots randomly developing ‘aimbot’ accuracy and dropping players. Now, criticism has centered on how difficult they are to eliminate, especially when compared to a normal opponent. Warzone 2 players want DMZ AI health nerfed massively In a January 17 Reddit post, one player highlighted the problems and said: “It should not take more time to kill an AI enemy compared to a real player. “It baffles me that the same gun that can kill a real player with a 3 plate vest in less than 400ms also takes an insanely long time to kill any AI enemy with armor. Can someone explain to me if there’s an actual reason behind this or just poor design?” Others echoed the sentiment, suggesting a simple health nerf would be enough to solve the issue entirely. “Exactly,” one player responded. “Putting almost an entire clip into an A.I. for it to “fall into last stand” and pop off shots and possibly kill me.” Another said: “The AI need to be fully removed. They just make the game worse. Turn Strongholds into a simple domination flag.” Season Two of Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 has now been confirmed as being delayed so the devs can take more time to implement changes based on player feedback. It is possible that we’ll get changes to AI and bots when that drops on February 15.

  • Warzone 2 players demand changes to “cop out” bots ruining DMZ matches – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players demand changes to “cop out” bots ruining DMZ matches ActivisionWarzone 2 players have demanded changes to the overpowered bots ruining DMZ matches, with the game’s AI still deeply unpopular. Warzone 2’s ‘Escape from Tarkov’ like mode DMZ has been an absolute hit with fans since its release back in November. However, while popular with the community, players have certainly been vocal about some of the mode’s most pressing issues. Following the Season 1 Reloaded update, outraged fans have claimed that the DMZ’s bot difficulty has become “overwhelming” and punishes solo players. Now, the community is up in arms, demanding that the Infinity Ward developers make some necessary changes. Warzone 2 players demand DMZ bot changes In a December 23 Reddit thread, Warzone fan ‘creepy-uncle-chad’ slammed the DMZ bots. Claiming the bots don’t miss any shots, the frustrated player explained how a squad of them spawned in front of them while trying to exfil. “I’m tired of armored bots spawning out of f**king nowhere and not missing any shots,” they wrote. “I was about to complete one of my missions by ex filing when all of a sudden a whole f**king squad of Armored bots spawns in front of me a completely wipes me. “All that work just for the game to bullsh*t me out of exfilling. F**k this mode.” “Yep they need to be thinned out and nerfed,” a player added in the thread. “It’s bad enough the spawns are random so you have a low chance of completing some location dependent missions. The bots shouldn’t just be bullet sponges. Sh**ty mechanic and feels like a cop out. Don’t even mention them one shotting you with a shotgun from miles away,” said another. “Currently, the AI is a bigger threat than other players which is not good at all. It makes it frustrating and annoying,” one player noted. With the devs now taking time off for the holidays, it’s unlikely we’ll see any major changes made in the near future. Hopefully, we’ll see some action from Infinity Ward in the new year.

Warzone 2 players delighted as “overpowered” Birdseye perk removed ActivisionThe Warzone 2 developers have made the popular decision to remove the Birdseye perk and Revive pistol while fixing game-breaking bugs. Warzone 2 introduced a new perk system, restricting players to a choice between different preset perk packages. Unfortunately, bugs prevented the system from working as intended. Infinity Ward backtracked and announced players will finally be able to pick and choose their own desired perks as part of the Season 2 update. The Battle Royale sequel’s perk system experienced another blow as players discovered an overpowered use for the Birdseye perk, forcing the developers to take action once again. Birdseye perk temporarily removed from Warzone 2 CoD content creator Zlaner labeled the Birdseye perk as “absolutely busted” because the perk allowed players to see enemy positions and the direction they were facing on the minimap whenever a UAV was called or the radar got a ping. Teams receiving near-live updates on an enemy’s location made it far too easy for players to abuse the feature. On January 30, Raven Software announced, “the Birdseye perk has been disabled in Battle Royale until further notice while we balance it for future implementation into customizable perk packages.” Survivor replaces Birdseye in perk packages, which pings enemy locations when downed and allows you to get revived faster by teammates. Season 2 reintroduces the ability to customize perk packages, but the feature launches with a reduced pool of perks. Raven Software did not specify when Birdseye would return. Warzone 2 community responds Warzone 2 expert JGOD responded, “was a bit overpowered, so that makes sense.” CDL commentator MerK added, “hey team, loving this after the weekend. Great way to start the week.” Not all community members praised Birdseye’s removal, as it raised the opportunity for engagements and increased the pace of gameplay. WZ2 guru IceManIsaac claimed, “It was fun while it lasted. One UAV per buy, and now no Birdseye. Can we find a way to increase engagements (not more AI)?” Players should still have no issues pinpointing enemy locations, as Season 2 adds more buy stations stocked with UAVs and makes it easier to earn cash.

  • Warzone 2 players deem Al Mazrah Quads “unplayable” thanks to cheaters – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players deem Al Mazrah Quads “unplayable” thanks to cheaters ActivisionWarzone 2 has undergone a cheating outbreak since the start of Season 2 and players have declared Al Mazrah Quads absolutely “unplayable” as a result. Warzone 2’s Tactical Nuke challenge is one of the hardest in gaming. It requires a massive team effort across multiple matches, and in many ways is dependent on luck to accomplish. It’s too much for the average player to achieve in most cases, and that’s why so many people have started cheating to check it off their to-do lists. The DDoS problem was bad enough in the opening weeks of the season, but now some players are avoiding Al Mazrah entirely because of it. Why Warzone 2’s Al Mazrah Quads playlist is “unplayable” Players gathered on a March 17 Reddit post to discuss just how bad the cheating problem has been, particularly when it comes to Al Mazrah Quads. “The cheaters are ddos-ing the quads servers constantly and it’s absolutely crushing the servers. They’re doing it for their paid nuke-skin services,” the original poster summarized. “More than 95% of my matches on Trios, as well as several other people I know, have been totally fine, clear, and lag-free. However, as soon as any of us step into quads, 100% of our matches are just laggy nonsense clown shows where we’re skipping around and teleporting.” Others joined in to share their stories about running into these cheaters, with most agreeing that Quads is receiving the worst of the punishment. The other Al Mazrah squad sizes appear to be safe from the hacking problem for now, but that doesn’t mean it will stay that way forever. Ashika Island is a bit of a safer bet as it’s impossible to achieve the nuke streak there, meaning the shadier members of the community aren’t incentivized to cheat in that playlist. There has been no word from Activision about how they plan to handle this situation, so for now, it’s best to hold on tight and ride it out in other game modes.

  • Warzone 2 players convinced devs secretly nerfed aim assist – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players convinced devs secretly nerfed aim assist ActivisionWarzone 2 players believe that there may have been a stealth nerf to aim assist in the Season 5 update, despite no mention of it in the patch notes, making it harder for controller players to succeed. Aim assist has long been a huge topic of debate across a number of shooter titles, not just Call of Duty. This has been amplified by the introduction of platform crossplay in recent years, where mouse & keyboard players have been left a little perturbed by the effects of aim assist on them. That said, it’s become clear that aim assist is essential for controller players, with thumbsticks not quite able to provide the precision needed to shoot with pinpoint accuracy 100% of the time, especially for casual players. While discussions have been ongoing among players regarding the strength and necessity of aim assist in games such as Warzone and Modern Warfare 2, many think the Warzone developers Raven Software secretly nerfed the mechanic for Season 5, with nothing said about it in the patch notes. Warzone aim assist nerfed? After playing in the Season 5 update on August 2, a number of players reported that aim assist felt different, in particular rotational aim assist. This includes World Series of Warzone finalist TheTacticalBrit, who said that rotational aim assist and its range “seem to have been nerfed.” While a number of players across social media have said that aim assist definitely feels weaker, a test from content creator dreamstrike seemed to suggest there might not be much difference. He said: “It’s very hard to objectively measure the strength in S4 vs S5, but it still feels OP.” Needless to say, many controller players feel like something is slightly different with their aiming in Season 5, but whether aim assist was actually nerfed or there is some placebo effect occurring here is hard to tell. If it was nerfed, even accidentally, we might see Raven address the changes in an update to the community before long.

  • Warzone 2 players convinced cheater “rampage” is ruining Season 5 – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players convinced cheater “rampage” is ruining Season 5 ActivisionWarzone 2 fans are convinced that hackers are back and back in a big way following the Season 5 update, with some claiming they’re on a “rampage” now. At some point or another, pretty much every multiplayer game out there has had an issue with hackers. Some can be funny and rather quirky hacks – like changing the color of your gamertag or creating a new game mode – but others, which focus on cheating, are much more harmful. It’s been a constant battle for the Call of Duty: Warzone devs across the original battle royale and now into Warzone 2. The introduction of the Ricochet anti-cheat has done its job on some levels, with thousands of cheaters still being banned at regular intervals. However, when it comes to Season 5, there have been a few early complaints about cheaters being back, and back with a vengeance. Warzone 2 games are being ruined by hackers again Those complaints have continued through the first few weeks of the new seasons, with many players claiming that hackers have been ruining matches again. “Mine are literally full of cheaters, 3kd and I think I might be shadow banned, so many sub lvl 100 accounts with crimson and nuke skins, people aim hacking blatantly, it’s insane,” said one Redditor. “Cheaters on a rampage currently in ranked,” another said. “There’s a lot of walling going on right now,” another commented. “Cheating, hacking, and walls have come back hard this season,” added another. One player claimed that a few notorious cheat sellers have come back online, thus giving rise to an increase in hackers over the last few weeks. As noted, Ricochet has been cracking down on cheaters but while single accounts can be quickly shadow-banned, having them permanently banned usually require a new wave. And, well, those just come and go, there’s no way of knowing when the next one will be. Hopefully its soon, though.

  • Warzone 2 players confused over release of Warzone 1 rewards – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players confused over release of Warzone 1 rewards Activision BlizzardAs Call of Duty players log into Warzone 2, fans of the original have found themselves confused about the release of Warzone 1 rewards. Activision has officially deployed Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, mere weeks after rolling out the wildly successful Modern Warfare II. The free-to-play battle royale significantly ups the ante, introducing players to previously unseen game features and vehicles. An all-new map, Al Mazrah, rounds out the experience, too, alongside the arrival of the long-teased DMZ mode. Of course, the new release will endure its fair share of growing pains for the next few weeks or so. However, some players are already confused about a rewards system that acknowledges legacy users. Warzone 2 release sparks confusion over Warzone 1 rewards Players who’ve logged in to the Warzone sequel received rewards for playing the original. According to reports, rewards include XP tokens, Weapon Charms, and the “Hound’s Tooth” Knife Blueprint. Others were given the “Dam Blade” Knife Blueprint for being a Warzone 1 regular. Unlocking two Knife Blueprints also seems to be a possibility. The theory is that Warzone 1 users will gain access to bonuses based on how much they played the game. Some can expect an accompanying “Message of the Day” that reads, “Best of the Best,” while another message says, “A Class of Your Own.” Not everyone is convinced the system works this way, though. One Twitter user claimed a friend of theirs seldom hopped into Warzone 1 and earned two Blueprints, while they played hundreds of matches and only unlocked one. The above example, if true, could constitute a rare occurrence, an error caused by day-one hiccups and the like. This reported issue aside, it seems those who spent the most time in the first game stand to gain better Warzone 2 rewards upon entering the fray. Warzone 2 is playable now across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.

  • Warzone 2 players claim removed feature makes it harder to detect cheaters – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players claim removed feature makes it harder to detect cheaters ActivisionWarzone 2 players were outraged after a recently removed feature makes it harder to detect foul play in matches. Hacking has been a problem in Call of Duty since the beginning. It’s an issue the developers have constantly battled in an attempt to stop it from plaguing the game. Warzone 2 players often use their kill-cams to identify hackers and cheaters, but now that ability has been removed. In the new Season 2 of Warzone 2, the removal of kill-cams shocked players. Their confusion resulted in an official statement from developers Infinity Ward, stating they were investigating their disappearance. Warzone 2 players criticize kill-cam removal In a Reddit post made on February 18, Warzone 2 players criticize the new choices made by Infinity Ward to remove the kill-cam. User atiustirawa pointed out how the absence of kill-cams make it easier for hackers to get away with cheating. They stated, “If I see someone obviously cheating, I can report them. Now that there are no more kill-cams, I can’t report obvious cheaters.” Killcams have traditionally been used to catch cheaters in Call of Duty games, allowing players to see when someone is using hacks or exploits to gain an unfair advantage. Without this feature, it is more difficult for players to detect and report cheaters, which could harm the overall integrity of the game. Despite Infinity Ward stating they weren’t sure what issue had caused kill-cams to be removed, some players theorized they were removed on purpose. “It’s not a problem if you can’t confirm it. High IQ, low-cost solution,” one player stated, implying kill-cams were removed to dissuade reports. Another commented, “They probably shut it off due to the sheer amount of cheat reports they receive on a daily basis on regular players. Then having to deal with account reviews so those regular players can get their accounts back after a false report was made. Nobody can admit they were outplayed.”

  • Warzone 2 players claim LA Thieves’ “Roze 2.0” skin isn’t actually pay to win – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players claim LA Thieves’ “Roze 2.0” skin isn’t actually pay to win Activision/LA ThievesWarzone 2 players are unconvinced that the CDL LA Thieves skin, which has been dubbed “Roze 2.0”, is actually as OP as the original. When it exploded in popularity, Fortnite set the path for battle royale games to follow when they started introducing character and weapon skins for players to buy. Call of Duty has followed that model and, like every other battle royale, states that cosmetics don’t give a competitive advantage to players. However, fans would disagree with that statement given that there have been “pay to win” skins and weapon bundles released over the last few years. Arguably, the most controversial of which has been the all-black, wetsuit skin for the Roze operator. At one point, almost everyone in Warzone was using the skin, as you could literally hide in the shadows and get the drop on unsuspecting enemies. Warzone 2 players doubt CDL LA Thieves skin is “Roze 2.0” Well, in Warzone 2.0, they’ve now released the 2022 Call of Duty League skins, and LA Thieves’ offering bares a pretty close resemblance to Roze. Though, it does have a massive red LA insignia on the chest. Players have already flocked to buy the bundle, but others remain wary of it actually being as good as the original Roze skin. “Not sure how good this is, because of the bright red on both the front and back, plus the fact the lighting is 100x better,” said one fan. “Black doesn’t really help too much in this game, the lighting is a ton better. It’s almost a hindrance now,” added another. “Not even close to what Roze was in the context of Warzone 1,” another commented. Some suggested that the ghillie suit skins are actually the most OP, given all the bushes and shrubbery around the map. As noted, the skin has already proven popular with players, so much so that it’s shot into the top 100 of most-bought items on Steam since its release. And while streamers like Aydan believe it’s OP, who knows if it’ll stay up there if players don’t trust it as much as the classic Roze look.

  • Warzone 2 players claim Intervention will just be “useless” nostalgia in Season 3 – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players claim Intervention will just be “useless” nostalgia in Season 3 ActivisionWarzone 2 players are concerned that the Intervention will be “useless” when it arrives in Season 3, despite all the nostalgia the sniper will bring. Over the years, as the Modern Warfare franchise has softly been rebooted by Infinity Ward, fans have been demanding a whole host of weapons, maps, and features return in the newer titles. A few of them have made it in, like Shipment getting a slight twist, but there are still plenty of things fans have on their wishlists for future seasons. One of the most iconic weapons from the 2009 installment of Modern Warfare 2 – the Intervention – will be making a return in Season 3 under the new name of the FJX Imperium. While plenty of fans are excited, especially given the nostalgia around the sniper rifle, some are concerned that it could be “useless.” Warzone 2 players concerned Intervention will be “useless” in season 3 After the sniper’s return was announced on April 3, a number of fans started discussing it across social media and weighed in on how it’ll fit into the current meta of Warzone 2. “I don’t get why people are so hyped it won’t play anything like it did in mw2, it’ll only look similar,” said one fan. “Don’t get excited, it’ll still be a 2-shot down,” added another. “Playing to people’s nostalgia is way easier than fixing their braindead broken game,” another commented. Some fans joked that the sniper would simply be the “Intervention from Wish,” referring to it being a cheaper version of the original that players knew and loved. A number harped on the fact that it is simply targeting the nostalgia factor, rather than creating something new and fresh. “YES! A reskin of the other snipers for pure nostalgia value!” added another. There have been some rumors that the TTK around snipers will be changed in future seasons, making them more powerful than they currently are. It remains to be seen if that’ll be the case, and if that would help the new Intervention combat the worries that it is just being a tribute act.

  • Warzone 2 players claim footstep audio is “worst in gaming history” – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players claim footstep audio is “worst in gaming history” Activision BlizzardCall of Duty: Warzone 2 players are frustrated with the game’s footstep audio, calling it the “worst in gaming history.” When playing in multiplayer games, like Warzone 2, with a competitive mindset, one of the most important aspects of the experience is audio. Audio is a major factor in pinpointing enemy locations, movement, and even getting the drop on unsuspecting players. That’s why when audio balance is out of whack it can get under fans’ skins. Now, Warzone 2 fans are venting their frustrations surrounding the game’s current audio balancing — specifically surrounding footstep audio — and have called it the “worst in gaming history.” Warzone 2 fans are not happy with footstep audio A post on the CODWarzone subreddit gained traction after one fan posted a brief clip that showed an example of its poor footstep audio. The video showed a player looking for enemies from a window before getting suddenly ambushed and killed from behind by another player. The OP captioned the clip with text that read: “Anyone who doesn’t think this is the worst footstep audio in gaming history is delusional. Embarrassing that a game of this caliber even considered a ranked mode.” Plenty of fans in the comments agreed, as one mentioned, “Wz1 audio was A+ compared to what we have now.” Another joked that it was simply the building they were in that contributed to the footstep audio. “That building has a high-end flooring system with sound insulation. Never ever try running into the rich people building.” Others noted that the audio balance as a whole seemed out of whack, with one fan noting the announcer’s voice can be heard loud and clear. “Foot audio periodically disappears entirely, but you gotta get your ears blown out about that DATA HEIST. Man some parts of this game are a complete joke.” Perfecting a game’s audio balancing is no doubt a gargantuan undertaking for a developer, considering many players likely use very different audio setups when playing. However, it’s clear that Warzone 2 players want to see some changes made — especially surrounding footsteps.

  • Warzone 2 players claim cheaters are “rampant” again ahead of Season 2 update – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players claim cheaters are “rampant” again ahead of Season 2 update ActivisionWarzone 2 players say that cheaters are running “rampant” ahead of the highly-anticipated Season 2 update, and things are “miserable” as a result. It’s been pretty well documented that Call of Duty has faced a difficult battle against cheaters over the last few years, as they’ve sprung up all over the place. For a lot of players, hackers and cheats ruined the end of the original Warzone battle royale, but the updates to the Ricochet anti-cheat for Warzone 2 appear to have curbed the damage that cheaters could do. There have been fewer reports of players complaining about cheats following the upgrades, however, with Season 2 on the horizon, a few are just starting to creep back in and players aren’t too pleased. Warzone 2 players claim cheaters are back in a big way That’s right, with the Season 2 update only a week or so away, players have had to tackle an increase in cheaters springing up across Al Mazrah. One Redditor highlighted a clip of them being eliminated from a game, where the enemy’s accuracy was somewhat suspect. They put it to other players to weigh in, and the verdict was overwhelming: they’d been deleted from the match by an aimbot. “My friend and I have been dying to people using this aimbot fairly often the past few days. Becoming a big issue,” one player said. “Cheaters are running rampant again. The last two days have been miserable,” added another. Some players noted that, while they’ve not come up against cheaters themselves, they’ve seen an influx in hacks being advertised and put on display. “Their streams are all over my TikTok feed,” said another player. As noted, Ricochet has done a solid job in Warzone 2 when it comes to stopping cheaters, but it may require a little tweak heading into Season 2, especially so they don’t ruin the new Ashika Island map.

  • Warzone 2 players claim cheater “plague” has hit after season 5 update – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players claim cheater “plague” has hit after season 5 update ActivisionWarzone 2 players are convinced there has been an uptick in cheaters in Season 5, with some players describing it as a “plague” of hackers. Towards the end of Warzone 1’s cycle, the Call of Duty battle royale became overrun by cheaters. You couldn’t play a game on Verdansk without someone using an aim bot or wallhacks, and in some extreme cases, god mode. The devs tried to clamp down on things with improvements to the Ricochet anti-cheat for Warzone 2, designed at catching cheaters out before they could do too much damage. Though, it’s debatable if that has worked. They’ve been able to ban tens of thousands of hackers and a recent ban wave even took down around 14,000 cheating accounts. However, some players believe things have gotten worse than ever in Season 5. Warzone 2 player furious as cheater “hackdemic” hits in Season 5 That’s right, if you feel like your Warzone lobbies are infested with more cheaters, well, you’re not alone. Many players have taken to social media to voice their concern about what they believe is a new “hackdemic” in the battle royale. “Literally got 3 resurgence games in a row where I went up against someone using walls and aim hacks. 100% no question about it cheaters,” said one player. “It’s been a cheater black plague for the last 2 days now and lobbies full of either hardcore sweats or AFK droppers,” added another. Some players pointed to the recent ban wave likely causing a spike in new accounts from previously banned hackers being the reason why. “Most likely hackers had their account banned so they made new one and are more blatant about hacking,” commented another. Other players suggested that the anti-cheat had simply “disappeared” as hackers have taken control across both Warzone and multiplayer. “Can’t play a single game tonight without some cheater ruining the lobby,” added another dismayed player. The reason as to why there is a spike in cheaters could be that the devs are planning another big ban wave. Ricochet will still be running in the background and won’t have ‘disappeared’ like some believe. So, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

  • Warzone 2 players celebrate long awaited RPG ban in Ranked Play – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players celebrate long awaited RPG ban in Ranked Play ActivisionTreyarch banned the RPG-7 and Strela-P in Warzone 2 Ranked Play, and community members praised the decision. Warzone 2 expert IceManIsaac took issue with RPGs one shot downing an enemy in Ranked Play, even if they had full plates. To prove his point, the YouTuber showed a clip of FaZe Swagg’s stream. Swagg had a perfect angle on an enemy and full plates. But one RPG shot ended his match early even after doing everything right. IceManIsaac urged players to flood lobbies with RPGs to show how broken they are. It’s unclear if the call-to-action paid dividends, but Treyarch stepped in and rectified the problem that briefly took over Warzone 2’s meta. RPG-7 and Strela-P banned in Warzone 2 Ranked play On August 21, Treyarch announced that the RPG-7 and Strela-P are now restricted weapons in Ranked Play. Additionally, the devs reminded players: “Warzone Ranked Play competitive settings are a multi-team effort to deliver competitive and fair matches. Restrictions are updated based on data and feedback, and restricted items may return after undergoing balance changes or fixes.” As a result, players celebrated the announcement and praised Treyarch for taking action. One player responded: “The days of getting wiped by little Timmy camping with an RPG are over.” A second user added: “This is one of the best updates you guys have managed to push out, congratulations.” Warzone 2 players expressed their excitement to jump back in and play Ranked Play again. A third community member celebrated: “What a day to be alive!” Other fans asked for the devs to ban the RPG in normal battle royale matches, but we have yet to see any restrictions for the standard playlist. If you need a new loadout with RPGs gone, make sure to check out our guide on the best Warzone 2 Ranked loadouts.

  • Warzone 2 players can’t believe crucial connectivity feature is still missing – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players can’t believe crucial connectivity feature is still missing ActivisionWarzone fans are puzzled by the lack of a crucial feature that would allow players to rejoin games if they’re disconnected. It can be argued that nothing is more frustrating than being disconnected while in the middle of a game, and when it comes to Warzone 2, even bugs can cause players to be disconnected from the game. Players have also had to put up with incredibly frustrating lag and server issues, which have persisted throughout the game’s lifespan. Nevertheless, the community is now baffled by how the devs have added no solution to disconnection issues. Warzone 2 players baffled by lack of crucial feature In a March 25 Reddit thread, Warzone fan ‘ThatHartleyKid’ noted how a crucial feature is missing from the game. The player noted how most games have the option that allows users to re-connect in the event they’re disconnected from the servers. “A match can last up to 25-40 minutes, and if you got disconnected once during that time, no matter if the fault comes from the server or your side? Everything you’ve played up until your point will be in vain, especially DMZ mode,” they wrote. “This is how I lost my 17 exfil streak along with my perks. “Every other game which lasts that long all have the option allowing users to re-connect. Why doesn’t Warzone / DMZ have it?” Others agreed that a reconnect feature would come in handy, but many aren’t hopeful that the devs will get around to implementing it. “I’m wondering why people are still asking such questions. This is Warzone, guys. If you think anything should be working or something should be implemented, then just remember the game you’re playing in,” one wrote. “It’s coming in the ‘reconnect’ bundle. $20 for five reconnects,” a player joked. “Remember the old Activision adage; if it don’t monetize, don’t fix it,” said another. A reconnect option would certainly prove to be useful. However, as many noted, it could cause more issues than its worth. We’ll just have to wait and see whether or not the devs take the suggestion on board.

  • Warzone 2 players calling for several WZ1 features to return already – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players calling for several WZ1 features to return already Activision BlizzardAfter just one day of exploring Al Mazrah and experiencing Warzone 2, players already want aspects of WZ1 back. Warzone 2 launched on November 16, and it didn’t take long for community members to fire off their first impression hot takes. Dr Disrespect came into WZ2 expecting the game to fail, and his first day in Al Mazrah didn’t fully win him over. Doc slammed the game’s “atrocious” looting system and wasn’t alone in leaving a negative review. Call of Duty Legend Seth ‘Scump‘ Abner played a few rounds of duos and said he would maybe give the game a four out of 10 rating. The pro’s concerns stemmed from UI concerns and performance issues. Both reviews painted a bleak future for the popular battle royale, but community members listed a few changes that would help turn things around. Warzone 2 players demand return of WZ1 features A Reddit user demanded that the developers bring back the “play again” button at the end of Warzone 2 matches. The enraged player stated, “OG Warzone was great cause you can just immediately cue the next match when you get eliminated. Now I have to go through the horrible menu UI, wait for 150 players to match together, and then go through the lengthy loading screen.” Other community members chimed in with more features they would like to see return from WZ1. One player responded with a list of missing quality-of-life features. Play Again – Player name/plates/killstreaks – Ability to edit and use our loadouts in pre-game – Pings are just a small white triangle…no indication of who pinged, it just blends in with the rest of the UI – A second user added, “How in the world have they gone Backwards and removed this?” Fortuntaley, help is on the way. On Raven Software’s Trello Board, the developers said, “the Play Again button after a match has been disabled while we investigate an issue. Clearing up one issue doesn’t excuse “heaps of small things being left out,” as a third player argued.

  • Warzone 2 players call out devs for “lying” about Resurgence squad sizes – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players call out devs for “lying” about Resurgence squad sizes ActivisionWarzone 2 players are calling out the devs on their promise of “all squad sizes at launch” of the Resurgence in Season 2 that went unfulfilled. Season 2 of Warzone 2 went live on February 15 and it brought a variety of new content and changes to the acclaimed battle royale title. One of the most promising features was the return of Resurgence mode on a completely new map called Ashika Island. However, not everything went according to the original plan, as Call of Duty content creator ModernWarzone pointed out, the game mode was supposed to launch with all squad size options, while it currently only supports 4-player squads. This puts smaller groups of players and people who want to explore Ashika Island solo in a tough spot of playing with a handicap or grouping up with random teammates. Warzone 2 players hope for more squad options for Resurgence ModernWarzone pointed this out in his February 20 tweet where he simply wrote “All Squad sizes at Launch” in quotes with a frowning emoji, attaching a screenshot of an official Call of Duty tweet containing the same quote from February 8. One player quickly chimed in, claiming that the devs “just be lying now” and that it “doesn’t even matter” what they say. Other players agreed in the replies that the mode would benefit from introducing the other squad size options that the original Warzone had. “I need solos man I’m out here taking on teams of 4 by myself because I don’t got friends who play the game,” stated one user before being bombarded with friend requests in the replies to his tweet. “I’m hoping for this [the] week when they add the next phase of the event,” shares another player who has hope for some solo Ashika Island gameplay yet. It’s unclear whether time restrictions did not allow the devs to put the different squad sizes into the game, or if the idea got eventually scrapped. Hopefully, the developers gauge whether that’s a feature that should find its way into the game based on feedback given by the community.

  • Warzone 2 players call for these legendary Warzone 1 weapons to return – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players call for these legendary Warzone 1 weapons to return Infinity WardWarzone 2 players would like the devs to bring back some iconic weapons from 2020’s Warzone to its 2022 sequel. Call of Duty is a franchise spanning many different games set in different periods of time, with this comes grenades, gadgets, and weapons with different functionalities and feel. It comes as no surprise that players have their favorites from different games and many are hoping that their ol’ reliable gets brought back into the mix, especially for Warzone 2 which will be supported for far longer than the usual yearly Call of Duty titles. With that in mind, Reddit user Lordtone215 asked users of r/CODWarzone: “what previous Warzone guns would u like to see brought back?” Lordtone nominated Uzi, Fear 1, and the Amax among some others for his wishlist of weapons that should make a comeback, and his post was met with a lot of other users reminiscing about their favorites from the first installment of the fully-fledged Call of Duty battle royale. Warzone 2 players want these guns to return from WZ1 The favorite among those commenting under the post was 2019’s Modern Warfare variant of the Kar98k, and it was a favorite by a landslide. “MW Kar-98k,” reads the most upvoted response. Followed by a second most upvoted comment that reads: “Kar 98 and it’s not even a debate.” This perfectly lines up with a previous article we wrote about players wanting the Kar98k back in Warzone 2. But there are other suggestions that players look upon fondly. “The Amax, without a single change, just the way it was when it was released. It was a gun that required skill to use,” suggests one user. Other users also named the Oden, AN-94, Bruen, PKM, SwissK, Ram-7, AX-50, FAL, and Milano among a sea of other suggestions. Season 3 is on the horizon, so maybe some of these players will get their wishes granted. Season 2 brought a variety of new weapons into the game, with some being classics from previous titles making a comeback.

  • Warzone 2 players call for Buy Station overhaul to fix Al Mazrah’s biggest problem – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players call for Buy Station overhaul to fix Al Mazrah’s biggest problem ActivisionWarzone 2’s Al Mazrah battle royale map has been quite well-received since it launched, but Buy Stations continue to be a topic of conversation, and players have outlined changes they want to see made to them. Player feedback is and will always be a mainstay in the CoD franchise, and Warzone 2 players have had some choice words for Activision’s BR title as of late. As a matter of fact, Warzone 2’s fans have been furious that the devs haven’t lived up to their end of the bargain when it comes to embracing player feedback. To rub salt into the wounds, the announcement of Counter-Strike 2 has only angered players further due to the current state of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. In terms of Warzone 2 though, it seems the current state of Buy Stations are also causing headaches with players wanting to see one major change made to them. Al Mazrah needs more Buy Stations in Warzone 2 Buy Stations are the lifeblood of Warzone 2’s economy as they give players the chance to spend any money they’ve obtained from looting, eliminating enemy players, or completing contracts. They contain useful goodies from UAVs to Gas Masks. One aspect of Buy Stations is troubling players though, and that’s the lack of them. “Al Mazrah needs more buy stations,” said Reddit user dinzzy, and other players completely agreed with this idea. “At least 2-3 per POI. Consistent items at the buy. Spare me the cr*p (why would I buy a Snapshot Grenade?). The economy is f**ked. Played Quads last night and everyone on our team has $20K plus and nothing to spend it on,” said one player. Whereas another user called out the devs altogether and accused them of ignoring their own game: “Practically the entire Eastern side of the map is devoid of buy stations. The developers of this game don’t play it. That much is super obvious.” Any Warzone 2 player will tell you that the presence of Buy Stations is crucial, and can be the key to winning a game. With complaints about the game on the rise, Buy Stations are perhaps one of the small things that the devs may address.

  • Warzone 2 players call “bullsh*t” as Combat Record set to wipe old stats – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players call “bullsh*t” as Combat Record set to wipe old stats ActivisionCall of Duty players will see their Warzone wins and statistics completely wipe when Warzone 2 Combat Record releases in December. The news was shared by Activision on December 9, stating the long-awaited Combat Record feature will be rolling out just under a week later on December 14. For those who are not aware, Combat Record allows gamers to track their progress in-game, including wins, K/D, and how they rank on various leaderboards. In a blog post, developers said: “Warzone 2 Combat Records will come online with Season 1 Reloaded. The statistics present in the Warzone 2 Combat Record will only be from the activation date forward, and will not include statistics from Warzone 1 launch through Season 1 Reloaded.” Warzone 2 Combat Record will not include Warzone 1 statistics The decision has attracted a significant amount of criticism since it was announced. ModernWarzone was one of the first to take issue with it – and thousands have followed suit since. “None of your Warzone stats you’ve accomplished so far will count once combat records are added on December 14,” the Twitter user said. “Some actual bullsh*t for those out their grinding wins for leaderboards all this time. Some people already have as many as 400 that won’t count.” There appears to be a consensus in the Warzone 2 community, too, with a Reddit post also sharing similar negative feelings about the change. One said: “Wow. Wins and stats not counting??? There are folks with hundreds of wins.” Another player replied: “Even playing field! I’ve got 0 wins. This sucks though, no reason they couldn’t have tracked it all along.” A third said: “This would’ve been completely fine if they had been clear from the beginning. But they weren’t, so it’s a big slap in the face for the people who’ve been grinding.” Whether or not the developers will reconsider the move remains to be seen, but their players are showing no signs of slowing down with feedback.

  • Warzone 2 players blast “stupid” decision to reset DMZ progress for Season 2 – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players blast “stupid” decision to reset DMZ progress for Season 2 ActivisionWarzone 2’s DMZ players have lashed out at the devs following news their progress will be reset with the upcoming Season 2, calling it a “truly baffling” move. Earlier this year, Warzone 2 fans bashed “pointless” DMZ missions, describing them as simply not worth the effort. Time-consuming missions often offer rewards like contraband weapons. Other than that, players grinded DMZ to unlock free skins, the M13B assault rifle, or just to enjoy the new game mode. But a lot of players set their sights on the insured weapon slots to prepare for future challenges (like the infamous Building 21 that comes and goes). The slots, which require a significant grind to unlock, are reportedly now being taken away from those who completed the necessary challenges when Season Two drops on February 15. DMZ players slam devs for “baffling” reset Resultantly, a number of players criticized the move, questioning what the removal is meant to achieve, other than undoing their hard work. “What’s the f***n point in grinding then. Or in any of it. Truly baffling move,” commented one user in a Reddit thread on the topic. “Telling your players base not to play since stats will be reset at their whim. Good job killing trust in your game,” agreed another. But, some argued it is a pretty fair move if the whole mission system and progression flow is going to be restructured. “I would hope they wouldn’t do resets for minor changes but if they change the whole structure of the mode like the mission progression, it does make sense,” argued one user. Time will tell if Activision, Raven Software, and Infinity Ward take criticisms from the DMZ beta seriously and address them later down the road to create an extraction shooter that can rival Escape from Tarkov.

  • Warzone 2 players blast “out of touch” devs for removing Resurgence solos already – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players blast “out of touch” devs for removing Resurgence solos already ActivisonWarzone 2 players have slammed the “stupid” devs for removing Resurgence Solos game mode from the playlist after just a few days. Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep were extremely popular in Raven Software’s original battle royale, so it’s no surprise that Ashika Island is already a hit in Warzone 2. With the ability to respawn, Resurgence is a fast-paced game mode where players can take more risks and aggressive gunfights. One of the most popular variations of the mode is Resurgence Solos which was live across the weekend but was quickly removed. This has sparked frustration from the Warzone 2 community who are confused why the devs have taken the mode out of the playlist. Warzone 2 players slam devs for removing Resurgence Solos Resurgence Solos were finally introduced to Warzone 2’s Ashika Island on February 24 and the community was extremely excited to dive into the mode. Unfortunately, Raven removed the mode after just four days and this has sparked outrage from players who have voiced their frustration on Reddit, slamming the “out of touch” devs for the “stupid” decision. “This is something I’ll never understand… Give us solo, duo, trio, and quad for each mode, god damn these devs are so out of touch with the community,” said one angry user. Another player argued Raven clearly doesn’t “know how hard it is to get 4 friends online at the same time” for Resgurence Quads. As the mode was only available for the weekend, a lot of players claimed they completely missed the chance to get involved with the action as they were “out of town”. This is a regular complaint from the community that Raven removes modes too quickly, so it’ll be interesting to see whether they decide to extend their time on the playlist in the future.

  • Warzone 2 players blast “out of touch” devs for adding AI to Ashika Island – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players blast “out of touch” devs for adding AI to Ashika Island ActivisionWarzone 2 players have criticized the developers of the CoD battle royale sequel after they confirmed the addition of AI to Ashika Island, Season Two’s new map. AI in Warzone 2 has been a thorny topic since the battle royale dropped back in November. While it gives players the opportunity to get their hands on more eliminations and better loot, there’s been huge conversations over whether it’s necessary to have AI figures in the same lobbies as real players. Despite the acrimony, the devs seem eager to add more AI to Warzone 2’s modes. On February 21, they confirmed the addition of AI as part of Ashika Island’s Search & Seizure Contract. They said: “Enemy A.I. Combatants only spawn during a Search & Seizure Contract and the upcoming Data Heist Public Event.” The move, unsurprisingly, provoked a backlash from players who want to see AI’s presence minimized. Warzone 2 players blast “sad” addition of AI to Ashika Island One respondent said that the devs are “so out of touch and it’s so sad,” while another told them in no uncertain terms that players do not want AI in Warzone 2 in “any shape or form.” “We don’t want Ai on resurgence, my god do y’all ever learn?” they said. “No you don’t, regardless if they only spawn during the contract we don’t want them in any way shape, or form.” A third simply said: “Stop fixing things that aren’t broken.” Regardless of the criticism from the playerbase, the devs look set on widening the inclusion of AI in Warzone and its modes. It’s become more common in battle royales, with Fortnite introducing AI into regular matches a number of seasons ago. The devs will argue that it makes matches more action-packed, as well as giving players more control over the in-game challenges they can complete. Players, though, don’t seem convinced.

  • Warzone 2 players blast final circles forcing them into underwater combat – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players blast final circles forcing them into underwater combat ActivisionWarzone 2’s new gas circle system has been well received by players, but one ending is getting blasted for leaving operators with no choice but to fight underwater. All in all, Warzone 2’s approach to gas and the ever-closing circle system has been well received by the community. The change to three individual circles that all converge into one final location has opened up survivability in a major way, which was one of the longstanding complaints about its predecessor. However, that kind of creativity and strategy goes out the window when the game ends in the middle of a river and effectively forces every remaining player to take a dive. Warzone 2 players outraged over final circles ending in the water As seen in the Reddit post embedded below, the last circle is 100% water. While the zone had yet to close, in just a matter of seconds there would be no option but to take a swim. This also means that any player carrying a pistol would have a massive upper hand as it’s the only weapon type that can be fired while swimming. The offense was so egregious that the original poster joked that the game wanted them to be legendary Olympian, Michael Phelps, who earned 28 swimming-related medals in his time as a competitor. As another commenter suggested, the only real counter available is to make a play while taking gas damage and pick off all the players who get a little too antsy trying to make it to the zone. This is still risky, but it does at least give a fighting chance to anyone who abandoned their handgun by this point in the game. There’s not much to be done when a game ends like this, and there have already been a few threads around the internet asking Raven Software to adjust any of these potential endings across the map.

  • Warzone 2 players blast devs over “woeful” Crossbow power – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players blast devs over “woeful” Crossbow power ActivisionSeason 2 marked the return of everyone’s favorite crossbow weapon in Warzone 2, but a considerable downgrade disappointed fans. After three weeks of waiting, players can finally complete Warzone 2’s Path Of The Ronin event and unlock the crossbow. Completing every challenge can be a little confusing, so make sure to check out our helpful guide. In Warzone 1, the crossbow initially one-hit kill enemies. Raven Software realized that was bit overpowered and changed it instead to one-hit downed enemies. Warzone 2 took the nerf a step further, forcing players to land two crossbow hits before downing an enemy. Players can still one-shot down enemies with a headshot, but that’s no easy task with how harshly arrow shots drop off over range. WZ2 players demand a reversion to how crossbows functioned in the original game. Warzone 2 players dissaprove of new crossbow A frustrated WZ2 player asked on Reddit, “why doesn’t the crossbow one shot? One community member responded, “devs don’t want one shots in the game, it’s that simple.” Snipers also no longer one-shot kill enemies in Warzone 2, as they did in WZ1. The Season 2 update unintentionally allowed snipers to one-shot again, but Raven Software quickly nipped that in the bud a week later. Players slammed the decision to nerf snipers, and expressed a similar sentiment in light of the crossbow nerf. “It’s just weird to add a weapon with a three-second reload and it needing two shots to down in most instances.” The new KV Broadside shotgun kills in under 300ms with fire-breath ammunition. It will be tough for the crossbow to find a place in the battle royale’s meta with poor mobility, reload speed, and damage. Some WZ2 players don’t believe hitting a headshot is realistic with the crossbow for most engagements. “only if you hit them in the head, something that’s almost impossible considering the slow bolt velocity and massive drop-off in trajectory, especially over any distance.” For now, it doesn’t appear the crossbow will be chosen by many players in its current state.

  • Warzone 2 players blast devs for taking a “significant step back” with updates – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players blast devs for taking a “significant step back” with updates ActivisionTowards the end of Warzone 1, patch notes gave players detailed weapon updates with explanations and exact numbers. Community members demand that same level of clarity for WZ2. On February 24, a Warzone 2 balancing update finally nerfed some of the battle royale’s most dominant weapons. The RPK, TAQ-V, Fennec 45, and Kastov 762 were all hammered based on community feedback. Fans celebrated a quick response from the developers as the update came just a week after the Season 2 weapon balancing update. WZ2 players previously criticized the developers for not making significant weapon-balancing updates between Season 1 Reloaded and Season 2. Despite providing a better response time, some community members have still felt let down by the battle royale sequel’s patch notes. YouTuber WhosImmortal explained why the WZ1 development team did a better job at explaining weapon updates to fans. Warzone 2 players bash “rough” patch notes WhosImmortal went on a long rant about Warzone 2’s handling of patch notes. “So far, to start the year, it seems like we have taken a decently significant step back in terms of the overall developer communication and transparency, specifically when it comes to the weapon update patch notes.” WhosImmortal argued that weapon balancing is essential for a successful FPS title. The YouTuber pulled up an example of a weapon balancing update. For the RPK nerf, the devs increased initial bullet vertical recoil and horizontal recoil and reduced damage ranges but didn’t give exact values. Lack of clarity in updates has forced WZ2 experts such as TrueGameData to test weapons or datamine exact weapon stats manually. WhosImmortal argued that developers could give players more information because they provided exact numbers for AI damage in a previous update. He praised Raven Software for providing “the best patch notes ever” towards the end of WZ1, telling players exact weapon changes. For example, A Warzone 1 update decreased the UGM-8’s minimum damage from 22 to 21. “We are missing exact values, have multiple different damage types now, and they are not fully accurate either. I really hope it gets resolved quickly because this is a very important aspect of the game.” For now, players will have to rely on stat websites to get accurate weapon details in Warzone 2.

  • Warzone 2 players blast devs for “ignoring” their own promise to respond to feedback – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players blast devs for “ignoring” their own promise to respond to feedback ActivisionWarzone 2 players have put developers Infinity Ward on blast online as tensions heat up among players, accusing them of “ignoring” a prior promise to listen to feedback and act accordingly. In the eyes of many players, Warzone and Call of Duty in general aren’t in the best state right now. This has been amplified by the hype around Counter-Strike 2 and Fortnite Creative 2.0, with CoD fans disappointed at how the franchise is failing to keep up with competitors when it comes to hype and excitement. While the Call of Duty League celebrated record viewership recently and ranked play is booming in Modern Warfare 2, much of the casual playerbase has had frequent complaints, leading to a player count that dropped “much faster than expected” in Warzone 2. Now, they’re calling out Infinity Ward for what they believe to be a failure to honor a promise Activision made over a year ago, saying that “feedback is a critical part of the development process.” One Warzone player, TheRealPdGaming, posted the statement from Activision to Reddit, asking “Did Infinity Ward just completely ignore this message when developing WZ2?” The post has already received hundreds of upvotes and comments in agreement, questioning why basic features that were in Warzone 1 are no longer in the current title. “The player base is dwindling and the biggest reason is because they can’t fix the warzone TTK on this engine without f**king up multiplayer,” one commenter said. Others simply stated that “this game is not fun anymore.” Whether Activision or the Call of Duty development teams address the backlash they’ve faced in recent months with a statement as candidly as they did before remains to be seen, but it’s no secret that players are getting seriously frustrated.

  • Warzone 2 players blast “braindead” nerf to ISO Hemlock in Season 5 Reloaded – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players blast “braindead” nerf to ISO Hemlock in Season 5 Reloaded ActivisionCall of Duty fans have hit out at the Warzone 2 devs for nerfing the ISO Hemlock in the Season 5 Reloaded update, with some calling it “braindead” to be making any changes at all. Big changes to the weapon pool and Warzone meta have become staples of any big seasonal update for the battle royale. The devs have continued to add new weapons to the mix as well as making changes to the current arsenal of guns. In Season 5 Reloaded, they made some of their biggest changes to date. Weapons across all categories were tweaked, with some getting specific updates for just Warzone 2 that wouldn’t affect multiplayer in Modern Warfare 2. The Cronen Squall, which has dominated the meta for some time, was naturally hit with another nerf. On top of that, the ISO Hemlock – which has been a long-standing alternative – was also nerfed, and players were a little more confused by that. Warzone 2 fans furious with fresh ISO Hemlock nerf That’s right, if you skipped over the patch notes for the new season, the Hemlock saw both its Close-mid damage range and mid-damage range being nerfed in the battle royale. It has totally put the AR in the ground, but, it’s annoyed plenty of players. “Braindead f*cking devs, why would you nerf the Hemlock,” one furious fan said. “Why the f*ck they gotta nerf my sweet ISO Hemlock for?” asked another. “I don’t get the Hemlock nerf. It already wasn’t that viable except maybe as sniper support,” tweeted another player. “There’s been far more than 2 nerfs, and there was no reason for this one,” another player commented on Reddit. “Seems weird they nerfed a middle of the pack assault rifle. They seem to really hate on the low recoil rifles,” added another. Other players stated that the Hemlock was already “down bad” and didn’t deserve to be nerfed like some of its rivals. It is only the early days of the new update, so it remains to be seen if players completely abandon the AR or not. Though, they clearly aren’t happy.

  • Warzone 2 players blame MW3 for “lazy” M13C attachments – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players blame MW3 for “lazy” M13C attachments ActivisionWarzone 2 Season 5 launched with new content for players to get stuck into, including the M13C, but players aren’t happy with how the gun was integrated into the game. The M13C, a higher damage variant of the M13B, can be earned by participating in the Warzone 2 Modern Warfare 3 reveal event and assisting in killing five commanders. Once earned Warzone 2 players can follow the same routine to level up the gun as their other weapons. But players noticed something about the gun that they weren’t happy about. Warzone 2 players hit out a “lazy devs” pushing MW3 One Redditor complained about the new M13C, which was inspired by the Modern Warfare (2019) MC13, claiming that they “didn’t even bother to give us back the Tempus Cyclone barrel from the previous game.” They felt that this was due to a lack of developer care and that it signals towards them “pushing the new game down our throats and getting pre-orders in.” Other players echoed their disappointment at the gun’s attachments, “I do like the gun, but they really should’ve added that integral suppressor to it, or just something new like new blackout ammo.” But the overall sentiment on the gun’s release wasn’t wholly negative. Some players really enjoyed the gun and reminded the original poster that “this isn’t even our mid-season gun, it’s a freebie for the reveal event.” Not only that, but players were pleased with the performance of the gun itself, “I have such good build on this gun, its insane, best gun so far for me.” Modern Warfare 3 is just around the corner, leading some players to feel like Warzone 2 is getting pushed to the side, but others claim to be really enjoying the state of the battle royale with Warzone being “pretty great lately.”

  • Warzone 2 players beg devs to bring back fan-favorite mode from Warzone 1 – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players beg devs to bring back fan-favorite mode from Warzone 1 Activision BlizzardWarzone 2 players are demanding that the Plunder mode from the original game makes a comeback in Warzone 2. The original Warzone Plunder mode swiftly rose to become a fan-favorite amongst players, with many using it to level up guns quickly. Players would respawn constantly, complete contracts for large sums of money, and prizes would be sprinkled everywhere on the map. This made it the perfect place to farm XP, especially for those that did not buy Modern Warfare. So, fans were understandably angry when the developers removed Plunder from Warzone during Season 4 Reloaded. While Warzone 2 launched with the DMZ alternative mode, for many, the extraction-based gameplay does not hit the same high notes as Plunder. Because of this, WZ2 fans have been asking the devs to bring Plunder to Al Mazrah. Warzone 2 players desperate for Plunder’s return Almost every single Twitter post from any of the aforementioned studios or teams is met with memes, jokes, or just straight-up pleas that circle around [lunder. “Nobody cares. Let us know when you bring Plunder to warzone 2,” is one example of the type of comment that Infinity Ward has to put up with. “I want it. Need a casual mode for f**ing around,” comments a user under a Reddit thread where Warzone 2 players are asking for the mode’s return. This comment highlights a serious problem with the current Warzone 2. DMZ and battle royale are not exactly “casual” modes where you can try out loadouts or tactics that might not be viable. In fact, DMZ heavily restricts your gear if you die often, and in BR you need to buy or acquire your loadouts. Some players feel left on ice without the “sandbox” type experience that Plunder and some other game modes from previous Warzone brought to the table. Players waiting for Plunder in Warzone 2 should keep their chin up, there already is some speculation that Plunder might return based on some bugged icons.

  • Warzone 2 players bash “misleading” Season 2 movement update – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players bash “misleading” Season 2 movement update Activision BlizzardWarzone 2 Season 2 added the ability to sprint while plating, but it comes with a catch that’s making some players feel deceived. Warzone 2 players have raised concerns over the game’s movement system. Activision controversially removed slide-canceling, which allowed players to traverse the map quicker and maneuver in gunfights. On top of that, the battle royale sequel also removed the ability to equip armor plates while sprinting. Both movement mechanics added an extra layer of speed to the battle royale, and fans were disappointed by their removal. Season 2 brings the armor system more in line with how it was in Warzone 1, but not enough to entirely extinguish the community’s boiling frustrations. Warzone 2 Season 2 slightly improves movement speed Warzone Season 2’s official blog post states, “Players can now sprint while plating.” However, Call of Duty insider CharlieINTEL clarified, “The patch notes say players can sprint while plating, but Raven said on the call that it does not work at 100% sprinting. So…” For context, the WZ2 developers held a call with content creators before the Season 2 update went live. Raven Software’s stance on taking a middle ground frustrated community members. Warzone 2 content creator Modern Warzone responded, “I wish they’d just let this one go.” Community members called out the developers for a vague explanation as one player added, “So they slightly mislead everyone,” and a second claimed, “Classic CoD miscommunication.” Professional Warzone, 2-player Lenun, showed off the new plating mechanic and approved how “smooth it looks.” You can’t make tactical sprint while plating, but it is much faster than in Season 1. Despite not allowing players to 100% sprint while plating, the Season 2 update made several other noteworthy changes. Players can now bust through doors while plating, the plating animation speed was increased by approximately 25%, and movement speed was increased while armoring up. Warzone 2 Season 2 went live on February 15, so it will take some time before players become fully accustomed to the new movement mechanics.

  • Warzone 2 players bash “lazy” random buy station placement – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players bash “lazy” random buy station placement ActivisionThe Warzone 2 developers stealthily changed buy stations from set locations to randomly generated, and community members demand a reversion. Warzone 2 buy stations have undergone a massive makeover since the game’s launch. In December, Activision doubled the number of buy stations in Al Mazrah. A few days later, an update reduced the price of primary weapons, and loadout drops finally returned to buy stations. Activision intended for loadout drop public events, strongholds, and primary weapons to quench the community’s thirst for using loadout weapons, but they’ve ultimately decided to backtrack on the game’s original direction. “Steep” loadout drop prices divided community members, but players have overall been supportive the game’s return to its roots. That said, Warzone 2 players have urged Activision to make yet another major buy station change. Warzone 2 players demand major buy station change A Warzone 2 player took to Reddit and claimed, “buy stations shouldn’t be this close to each other. Half of the map has barely one buy station, and then you have two to three spots like this with a lot of them.” Buy stations are randomly generated in Warzone 2, and an image shared by the user shows four buy stations all right next to each other. Making buy stations spawn randomly positively affects gameplay by forcing players into less-visited areas of the map, but in this instance, it also creates unnecessary traffic jams. One player responded, “The problem is they didn’t write an algorithm that spaced them out within each city in a way that makes sense. Half the time, they are within 1 block of each other..” A second community member added, “it’s so f**king lazy. There are several parts of the map that literally cannot even spawn one.” Warzone 2 originally launched with pre-determined buy station locations. A third player claimed, “I honestly liked it better when all the buy stations were in the same spot every game like it was at launch. It gave you more options and kind of reduced buy station camping because there were options.” Activision hasn’t shied away from altering buy stations, and we will provide an update if the developers address clustered spawns.

  • Warzone 2 players baffled by “weird” AR nerf that nobody asked for – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players baffled by “weird” AR nerf that nobody asked for ActivisionCall of Duty Warzone players have been left confused by the “weird” nerf to the M4A1 in Season 4 Reloaded as they didn’t quite expect it. Across the last few updates, the Warzone 2 devs have put a big focus on changing up the meta and making some big balancing changes to the weapon pool in the battle royale. They opened up Season 4 by nerfing the ultra-dominant Cronen Squall, however, the rifle has come back to prominence despite that. The recent Season 4 Reloaded update also helped the Squall’s case as other weapons were nerfed around it. On July 24, the devs also dropped an additional round of weapon balancing changes, mainly aimed at reducing the damage profile of the akimbo Snakehsot pistols. While that change was rejoiced by players, many questioned why the M4A1 also went under the microscope. Warzone players can’t believe M4 has been nerfed in Season 4 The assault rifle, which has always been viable if not totally meta in Warzone, saw it’s damage multipliers to the torso decrease a little bit. That is, obviously, not the biggest change in the world, but it was enough to set some players off. “Wtf did the M4 have to do with this? Weird nerf,” quizzed one fan. “Perplexed how the M4 nerf is supposed to work,” said another. “NO ONE asked for an M4 nerf,” another commented. “Lachman may have been a bit excessive and the M4 is weird but everything else is awesome,” added another. Many players didn’t take issue with everything else but continued to question where assault rifles now stand in the meta given this M4 nerf. “Literally all they had to do was nerf the X13, Squall, and the Shotguns but they need to put their grubby hands on ARs that aren’t even broken, now they basically struggle vs SMGs at range,” said another player. Unless something is completely out of hand, the devs don’t give much reasoning for their nerfs, and it remains to be seen if the M4 will go under the microscope for changes again so soon.

  • Warzone 2 players baffled by devs adding bots to Ashika Island – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players baffled by devs adding bots to Ashika Island ActivisonWarzone 2 players are puzzled by the devs’ decision on to add bots to Ashika Island Resurgence matches. As the first major update of the new year, the launch of Season 2 introduced players to Warzone 2’s first Resurgence map, Ashika Island. Ashika Island holds just 52 players instead of the usual 150 we see in Al-Mazrah, offering a faster-paced alternative to the regular battle royale. But, despite the island being roughly 30% larger than previous Resurgence maps, gunfights are still constant. However, with bots added on top of that, players feel as if it’s a bit too much. Warzone 2 fans puzzled with Ashika Island bots In a March 12 Reddit thread, Warzone fan ‘TapInBogey’ requested an explanation as to why the devs added bots to the Resurgence mode, questioning the logic behind the decision. “There are so many ‘nobody asked for this’ things the developers have done, but this one especially blows my mind,” the player said. “Rebirth is fast-paced with tons of third-party attacks, and it’s hard to sometimes keep your wits because of the bullets flying everywhere.” They continued: “And then you add bots stomping around, shooting at you, distracting you, giving away your position. Again, I have been baffled by a lot of choices but this one is really one that makes me think the developers don’t even play the game.” Others players also agreed, questioning why bots are needed when it’s already hectic as it is. “Whoever thought of this right idea to add bots to an already hectic small map needs to be fired immediately,” a fan hit out. “The people that made this game definitely don’t play it,” said another. With Season 2 Reloaded on the horizon and set for release on March 15, players are hopeful we’ll see some changes.

  • Warzone 2 players baffled by completely broken Roze skin removing body parts – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players baffled by completely broken Roze skin removing body parts ActivisionWarzone 2 players have been left baffled by a hilariously bugged Roze skin as the cosmetic makes everything except the character’s head vanish. We’ve all seen our fair share of questionable Warzone bugs over the years. Be it issues on the map, demonic weapon skins, or even just cosmetics not working as intended, players have been through a lot in the CoD Battle Royale. Not to mention the hacks piled on top, with pesky players able to commandeer vehicles and soar through the skies. An issue that’s plagued both the original Warzone and its sequel in Warzone 2. However, despite the jump to an all-new title in 2022, new problems are only continuing to surface. This time around, players have noticed one of the more peculiar Operator skin bugs in quite some time, as a specific Roze skin has been left without a body. “What the f*** is going on [with] the Call of Duty skins?” a Reddit user questioned on March 13 after running into the bug. With only a handful of Operators at their disposal, Roze was one the player had access to right away. However, things didn’t work out as intended. Upon highlighting the Operator and selecting their Kortac skin, everything but her head and her weapon disappeared into thin air. The character’s face simply hovered off the ground while a Shotgun floated behind. At this point in time, there’s no telling what caused this bizarre issue to arise, nor whether Roze’s body remains invisible in-game, or purely just in the menus. If it’s the former, that means we could see floating heads across Al Mazrah, terrorizing the rest of the lobby. However, if that were the case, we likely would have seen video evidence of such nightmares already. Activision is yet to respond to this particular issue, so there’s currently no telling when it might be fixed and when Roze might get the rest of her body back. We’ll be sure to keep you posted as any further details emerge.

  • Warzone 2 players baffled as Semtex secretly “nerfed” in Season 1 Reloaded update – Dexerto

Warzone 2 players baffled as Semtex secretly “nerfed” in Season 1 Reloaded update Activision/Infinity WardWarzone 2 players are convinced that Semtex grenades have been nerfed following the Season 1 Reloaded update as they’re just not eliminating players, even after sticking them. It’s been over a month since Warzone 2 was finally released to the Call of Duty community, with millions of fans from across the globe dropping in and getting to grips with everything Al Mahraz has to offer. Though, it’s not exactly been plain sailing since the launch. There have been quite a few headaches for players including matches stuttering, enemy AI being incredibly strong, and a few weapons not being as powerful as they feel they should be. The recent Season 1 Reloaded update was supposed to fix quite a few issues, but that hasn’t been the case. In fact, players are convinced it’s even created a new one for Semtex grenades and the damage dealt from their sticks. Warzone 2 players believe lethal grenades are “busted” Following the update on December 14, players believe that the once powerful Semtex sticks have been rendered a bit useless, especially when it comes to the Gulag. A number of players have taken to social media to voice their dismay at how the grenades now won’t down an enemy even with a direct hit. “Semtexes are really bad in WZ2, they don’t even finish a downed opponent anymore. Hoping it’s a glitch,” said one. “Even without 3 plates, a Semtex stick isn’t killing people. It’s bugged or something for sure,” added another. “Lethals are busted,” another player commented, suggesting the issue is affecting claymores and other explosives. Some suggested that the change had even extended to multiplayer matches, and that it’s not just limited to Warzone. “I noticed a difference in MP no stuck noti and damage seems a lot less,” one added. In the actual patch notes, some explosives, including Semtex, were actually buffed when it comes to dealing damage to AI opponents like the Jailer. It remains to be seen if developers will address the issue seeing as the holiday break is upon us. Though, players clearly want something to change.
