  • New Warzone leak hints at big in-game event coming soon – Dexerto

New Warzone leak hints at big in-game event coming soon ActivisionA new Warzone leak has hinted at a big in-game event occurring sometime soon, similar to Fortnite’s famous concerts or completely game-changing events that make major alterations to the game. Fortnite itself revolutionized how events can occur within video games, with popular artists such as Marshmello and Travis Scott performing both live and pre-recorded concerts for viewers to watch, as well as having huge battles between characters or world-changing events that shift the map and game in new directions. But could something like this be happening in Warzone? It’s hard to imagine, but it’s a possibility according to this leak. Geeky Pastimes, who was one of the first to reveal Season 4’s launch date of June 10, has shared some of his findings while looking into the game’s files, and found something very interesting. While it’s not completely clear what is due to happen, we can make some educated guesses based on what is available. A few days after Season 4 kicked off, Geeky Pastimes started looking into the files and found something simply named “event1,” which had a HUD scramble effect and five pieces of music linked to it. 4)There is a HUD scramble effect and five pieces of music linked to something called event1 – could be a public event, no idea 5)There’s a prop hunt game somehow linked to Warzone. I really hope this is a thing and I didn’t just misunderstand… — Geeky Pastimes (@geekypastimes) June 12, 2020 The immediate implication is that a major in-game event could be occurring in Warzone Season 4, potentially bringing some major map changes or similar to the game. This may tie in with a similar leak from Geeky Pastimes, in which it was suggested a major change could be coming to Stadium. Is it possible that there will be a concert in Stadium, free for Warzone players to turn up and watch? It’s definitely plausible, though it’s hard to imagine the hardened soldiers in a desolate Verdansk turning up to Stadium to wind down.

  • New Warzone Halloween Haunting trailer reveals Ghost mode & 6 spooky skins – Dexerto

New Warzone Halloween Haunting trailer reveals Ghost mode & 6 spooky skins ActivisionCall of Duty: Warzone’s “The Haunting” event has finally been revealed in full Halloween glory. And a new trailer has shown off a revamped Ghosts mode alongside five spooky skins, including from “Scream” and “Donnie Darko.” Enough time has passed that Warzone fans now look upon last year’s Halloween event fondly. Sure, there were jump scares, but there was also a night map of Verdansk and beloved horror movie skins. And, while people still run the Jigsaw skin, new content is coming in Season 6 for the last Haunting event in pre-Pacific Warzone. In the new trailer, it has been revealed that last year’s Zombie Royale mode is shifting to a more ghosts-based theme and five frightening skins will be made available. From Scream’s Ghostface and Donnie Darko’s “Frank the Rabbit” to three other ghastly abominations, the event is full of spooks. Warzone Halloween Haunting’s new Ghost mode https://twitter.com/charlieINTEL/status/1450145167638503424 The trailer premiered on October 18, with popular Warzone streamer FaZe Swagg leading the way. While many enjoyed his cameo, the trailer also gave us a first look at some of the other content. Read more: Dr Disrespect explains why he’s skeptical of Warzone anti-cheat: “Part of me thinks it’s a PR play” – Last year, we had Zombies Royale — a limited time mode in which you could turn into a zombie upon your death and ruin others’ games. This year, we’re shifting to ghosts, as Warzone’s blog reveals a “Ghosts of Verdansk” mode. In the trailer, it looks pretty similar, with people jumping around as ghosts instead of zombies. But there will be some wrinkles, such as teleportation abilities and a new “Fear” meter. Warzone Haunting skins: Scream, Donnie Darko, Necro Queen, Disciple, Lumens The Ghostface and Frank the Rabbit skins have already been leaked by hackers who managed to unlock them before the event. But the trailer shows them off in full glory, alongside three new skins. Joining the Scream and Donnie Darko skins, Warzone will also be getting three Ultra-rarity outfits. Portnova will receive a “Necro Queen” undead skin, Weaver will turn into the “Disciple of Mayhem, and Maxis will get the “Lumens” fit. • New Warzone Godzilla x Kong collab’s focus on bundles is underwhelming – Dexerto

New Warzone Godzilla x Kong collab’s focus on bundles is underwhelming ActivisionThe newest collaboration between Warzone and Godzilla x Kong is a steep downgrade from the last event when it should have been a slam dunk. The newest collaboration between Warzone and Godzilla x Kong ignores what made the last one so great in favor of just cosmetics. When the game last had everyone’s favorite Titans come into play, it had not only some great new operator skins but also an epic game mode that brought both to life. This new event feels like a stripped-back content drop that is more about bundles than a new experience. In 2022, Warzone and Call of Duty: Vanguard used the hype from the previous year’s Godzilla vs. Kong to create a truly fun event. Across both titles, operator skin bundles were released based on the titular characters, as well as the movie’s surprise villain, Mechagodzilla, which turned out to be a fan-favorite to wear. But beyond that, Warzone was given Operation Monarch, a new mode that saw players diving into Caldera to complete missions, all while Godzilla and Kong wreaked havoc across the map. It was a thrilling experience that had fans taking the Titans head-on. But, for some reason, this newest collaboration isn’t bringing that game mode back. Instead, the community just has premium bundles that feel like a step backward in design. The complaints are coming out all over social media, with one person commenting on a teaser video released on X, saying: “The Kong Skin is so bulky.” Others are criticizing how a recent skin can look better than that of one of cinema’s most iconic creatures: “So you guys are adding a raptor skin that looks good but your gonna give me the worst Godzilla skin in history? Come on…” The worst thing, though, is that they could have brought Operation Monarch back to Warzone with little to no changes, and people would have loved it. As one user comments: “I wish Godzilla and Kong were both back stomping around the map again like in the Operation Monarch event. That was the best time I’ve ever had playing the game.” It’s a disappointing collaboration that had the blueprints to be great but relies too much on pushing bundles.

  • New Warzone Gallo loadout is so good it’s banned from pro tournaments – Dexerto

New Warzone Gallo loadout is so good it’s banned from pro tournaments Activision / pixabayCall of Duty: Warzone’s shotguns have a colorful history, with some of the game’s most controversial metas defined by the weapon. Now, a new Gallo SA12 loadout is so gnarly that pros are banning it from tournaments. Warzone veterans will remember the infamous “doof doof” R9-0 fire shotgun meta and the days of the Origin 12’s domination as well. But submachine guns have largely taken the place of shotgun shells in recent months… until now. In custom lobby tournaments, top players compete against one another and often ban items they find unfair. In Brazil, they’ve banned Stun Grenades and, in the past, OP weapons like the DMR. In North America, people are now banning shotguns and launchers. The latest shotgun ban, which will take effect for Tommey and ZLaner’s tournaments, is most closely linked to the Gallo — which made its presence felt (and despised) during the $75,000 Twitch Rivals Customs. The banned Warzone Gallo SA12 shotgun loadout Placed 2nd in the $75k Twitch Rivals w/ @aHTracTXII. Won 2 games and played extremely well. Took home $4000 each! GG’s to everyone 🙂 pic.twitter.com/1UNiqyQiUx — Drew (@Frozone) August 26, 2021 As Frozone posted to Twitter after claiming second in the tournament, this Gallo class is a force to be reckoned with. Muzzle: Agency Choke – Barrel: 21.4” Reinforced Heavy – Laser: SWAT 5mw Laser Sight – Stock: Wire Stock – Ammunition: STANAG 12 Rnd Tube – The setup is quite similar to most Gallo loadouts of old, but with a few minor tweaks to adjust mobility. Unlike typical builds, which prefer the SOF Target Designator and No Stock, the pro build opts for the SWAT 5m2 Laser Sight and Wire Stock. This Gallo maintains the damage and ammunition capacity of most builds, while offering an added layer of handling comfort — critical for winning engagements against the world’s best players. These are the rules so far for my $50k tournament. Let me know your thoughts & if there is anything we can improve 🙂 pic.twitter.com/6NrZWr1jhK — OpTic ZLaner (@ZLaner) August 30, 2021 The Rivals tournament had no restricted items, but pro players have since pushed against that. With top players like Newbz calling Fro “shameless” for running his Gallo, it’s obvious that the gun was the main culprit behind the new shotgun bans. The argument for and against the Gallo in tournaments largely boils down to mouse and keyboard vs controller, as MKB players claim they need shotguns to counter controller players’ SMGs (which are aided by aim assist). For the vast majority of players, that argument isn’t important. What is important is that there’s a Gallo loadout floating around that is so frustrating to play against that pro players are banning it. If it’s too good for them, it might just be good enough for us.

  • New Warzone feature tells you when hackers are in your game – Dexerto

New Warzone feature tells you when hackers are in your game ActivisionRaven Software have doubled down on recent anti-cheat efforts in Warzone by adding a new feature that shows you if a hacker was in your game. The hacking problem in Call of Duty’s battle royale title has been among one of the most divisive talking points of recent times, once leading to a streamer walkout – which included NICKMERCS, CouRage, TimTheTatman and more, calling for change. Those calls were given a large boost on August 11, when the developers announced a ban wave targetting 50,000 cheaters. After the fact, many hackers took to social media to announce they could no longer create a new account, which was the previous workaround for being banned. That was the first victory for players sick and tired of being killed by hackers. On August 16, the developers took things a step further. Warzone feature shows hackers disconnecting Raven added a small, yet important, feature to Warzone which allows players to see when hackers have left (due to being banned) in real-time. This will show you when a hacker has been in your game, and potentially wreaking havoc. This addition was spotted by the fine folk at CharlieIntel, who tweeted about the discovery. Read More: Warzone August 16 update patch notes – They said: “Raven has updated the kill feed in Warzone to now show when they ban a player during a game. The kill feed now says “Username has been banned” instead of “disconnected.” (name blurred in this image).” New: Raven has updated the kill feed in Warzone to now show when they ban a player during a game. Let’s run through a few reactions to the news, as it happened. Some would still prefer firmer anti-cheat action. Reactions Whether or not this is the solution many of the big streamers, hardcore, and casual players need to return to the action remains to be seen.

  • New Warzone exploit makes players invincible in game’s final circle – Dexerto

New Warzone exploit makes players invincible in game’s final circle ActivisionCall of Duty players have uncovered a strange issue in Warzone that allows you to become invincible in the final circle so long as you bring a teammate back via a buy station. Since it’s launch, Call of Duty: Warzone has proven to be an incredibly popular battle royale – but it hasn’t been perfect as there have been plenty of issues, bugs, and exploits. Players have been left frustrated by hackers being able to not take damage, different weapons appearing in Gulag fights, and even having weapons changed to look like a dog. Now though, players have revealed how one of the newest exploits – invincibility in the final circle – has been pulled off without the use of hacks or cheats. The issue was showcased by Reddit user Matt5hew, who had managed to bring a teammate back from the dead just before being eliminated themselves – and as soon as the final circle was beginning to close in. As their teammate was parachuting in, they were stuck outside the gas but didn’t have their health affected one bit. Instead, they were able to just sit in the air as the enemies, most likely, frantically ran around in the hopes of finding the last remaining opposing player. With the health of Matt5hew’s teammate being unaffected by the gas, they sat in midair until the ‘Warzone Victory’ message popped up on the screen – most likely because the opposition players had succumbed to the gas themselves. Of course, while invincibility is something you never want to play against in a battle royale, having the ability to not die is pretty situational in this case as you’d need a buy station to pop up in the final circle – as well as having the time to buy someone back. However, as it is an invincibility exploit, there is no doubt that Infinity Ward will want to address it sooner rather than later so, it should be patched at some point in the near future. We’ll just have to see how fast they get around to sorting it. Watch: World Record Holders’ Tips for Warzone Wins

  • New Warzone events explained: Jailbreak, Fire Sale, Supply Choppers – Dexerto

New Warzone events explained: Jailbreak, Fire Sale, Supply Choppers Infinity WardCall of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Season 4 has brought a variety of new content, and the three new in-game events for Warzone are some of the most intriguing. While many hoped Infinity Ward would revamp Warzone’s Verdansk map, they focused instead on adjusting their battle royale’s gameplay—with Jailbreak, Fire Sale, and Supply Chopper events providing a major spontaneous shift in action. As explained in the season’s patch notes, the aforementioned three game-changers can occur in any match and, if they do, just one will pop up and it will arrive without any advance notice in the middle of the match. While their timing is similar, the way each impacts is entirely different. Jailbreak The Jailbreak event is insane. Toward the mid-game, a “Jailbreak Imminent” alert pops up, signaling that there is one minute until every single dead player, whether in the Gulag or spectating, re-deploys. It’s straightforward, fits the name, and gives players a reason to spectate instead of quitting out, even if their entire team is dead and they’re simply spectating opponents. The minute timer gives those on the ground a chance to get situated, and those awaiting re-deployment a chance to strategize. It can be pure chaos, but very fun—especially for kill-hungry players who get gifted a much larger lobby to hopefully break world records with. Fire Sale Like a Black Friday shopping mall, a Warzone Fire Sale is the opportunity to buy nearly everything you could want in a limited time, but with the risk of trampling. When a sale starts, a clock starts ticking and every living player on Verdansk gets one minute to hit a Buy Station. Re-deployments are free, Self-Revives are free, and everything but Loadouts are discounted by up to 80 percent. This means every player, regardless of initial funds, can get absolutely stocked up if they manage to withstand the heat of a suddenly magnetized Buy Station. Supply Choppers Similar in consequence to the Fire Sale, the Supply Choppers event can entirely shift how equipped your team is heading into the late-game. When the moment comes, a bunch of large, armored, non-lethal helicopters begin circling Verdansk—these can be shot down, upon which they drop a care package with a huge amount of loot. It takes a ton of damage to bring one down, but a goldmine will await once you do. Among the loot within, players can be sure to find three UAVs, two armor boxes, two munitions boxes, a gas mask, grenade launcher, and a lot of cash with the possibility of even more miscellaneous goodies. Opening the package does take much longer than Loadouts though, so be careful—especially since other teams will be drawn to the drop, which can sometimes drift away from you as the helicopter begins falling, and may try to steal it.

  • New Warzone event teased in cryptic Call of Duty app message – Dexerto

New Warzone event teased in cryptic Call of Duty app message Infinity WardIn a mysterious notification sent through the Call of Duty app, Infinity Ward have hinted at some sort of event taking place in Warzone very soon. A lot of changes are quickly happening in Warzone, as Infinity Ward are looking to keep injecting new content into their prized battle royale to keep it fresh. On May 20, those who have the official Call of Duty app downloaded to their phones received a “confidential” message that could be a teaser for something big in the near future. The notification was titled “Eyes only /// Confidential,” addressed to “Armstice Senior Operators” (aka players), with the subject “Tactical Alert.” On May 19 at 2337 ZULU, Coalition SIGINT intercepted flash traffic from AQ regional comman outside Verdansk. Message calls for a priority IP call with an unknown. Suspected recipient is TARGET DENVER. Timing of meeting unknown – suspected for 21 May. Location to be confirmed. Surveillance activity has been authorized. MAINTAIN VIGILANCE ON COMMS FOR LOCATION OF ENEMY SURVEILLANCE. There’s no doubt that the message is a warning about some sort of threat to Verdansk, and while the majority of the message is confusing, the one clear and important detail is the date. So, whatever is going to happen will be taking place on Thursday, May 21, but the exact location remains “to be confirmed.” However, Infinity Ward could drop more teasers between now and then, perhaps even in-game, so players should remain “vigilant,” just as the notification requests. What could this mean? Ties to Bunker 11 The cryptic nature of the warning does leave a lot of room for speculation, and it’s only natural for people to bring in Bunker 11 into the equation. On May 19, following the massive update in Modern Warfare, players were able to gain access to the various locked bunkers on the map. However, one of those areas, Bunker 11, remained locked – until a select few solved the easter egg that opened the door, revealing it to contain a nuclear warhead in a space that was much larger than the others. Considering how this vault was singled out by the devs and had features that differentiated it from the others, there’s a good chance that it will tie in with this upcoming event. Black Ops Cold War It’s no secret that Treyarch are developing the 2020 Call of Duty game, and there’s a strong indication, based on rumors, reports, and leaks, that it will be a soft reboot of the Black Ops series titled ‘Black Ops Cold War.’ Furthermore, many believe that Activision will use Warzone to start teasing their next release, and seeing as how most CoD games first start getting revealed in May, this upcoming event could be the start of that process.

  • New Warzone data reveals the most powerful weapons in the game – Dexerto

New Warzone data reveals the most powerful weapons in the game ActivisionPopular Call of Duty YouTuber ‘TheXclusiveAce’ has gathered some data from Warzone that reveals which weapons are the most viable to use in the battle royale game. Choosing which weapons to use in Warzone can often be the difference between winning and losing, so everyone playing the BR should know which guns give them the best chance at victory. Weapons are a bit different in Warzone than other battle royales, mainly because most teams will quickly gain access to Loadout Drops and be able to use their own custom classes, making ones that are found in floor loot obsolete. So, what are your best options when trying to decide how to build your loadouts? In his search for the answer, prominent CoD YouTuber TheXclusiveAce did an in-depth analytical study of the gunplay for each gun’s in-game stats. Read More: 6 best custom loadouts to use in Warzone – The chart that he published in a recent video breaks down every single weapon in the game for their max damage, rate of fire, damage per second, and both the shots to kill and time to kill against base health, one, two, and three plates of armor. Not only did he isolate the guns themselves, he also included certain attachments that boost those stats, like different types of ammo that have larger/smaller rounds. While they may not always tell 100% of the story, the most important stats to look at are damage per second (DPS) and time to kill (TTK) because, combined, they usually will give a fairly good indication of a weapon’s viability. For example, the Oden does among the highest damage of the assault rifles, but its DPS and TTK are low because of the extremely low rate of fire compared to some of the other options. Read More: All helicopter spawn locations in Warzone – Staying in the AR category, one very interesting tidbit this chart reveals is that the RAM-7 is actually a better option than the super-popular M4A1, having better killing stats across the board. That said, if you equip the .458 rounds on the M4, you can significantly increase its power – however, that ammo only comes with 10 rounds. The SMG stats are also quite revealing. While its true that they justify how popular the MP5 is in Warzone, especially with the 10mm rounds, the real hidden gem of this category is the AUG. When equipped with the 5.56 NATO rounds, the AUG actually ends up having the highest DPS out of all the assault rifles and SMGs except for the M4 with .458 rounds, which only offers a limited amount of ammo, anyway. Thus, the AUG not only gives you the handling of an SMG, it actually packs a punch that tops almost every single AR in the game, making it the ultimate weapon for Warzone. One final comparison to touch on is the one between the two most-used sniper rifles in the BR – the HDR and AX-50. The player-base is pretty much split between the two, but these stats suggest that the latter might be the better option. They both do the same damage, but the AX-50 has a higher rate of fire, and thus a higher DPS and TTK. So, as long as you consistently hit your shots, it’s the one to go with. That said, however, the HDR does have better range and accuracy, which means it’s more forgiving, so if your sniper shot is a bit shaky, you might be better off with this one. Now that you’ve got this information in hard, go back into the battle royale and see how the guns in your custom classes stack up. Also, make sure to visit our 6 best loadouts to use in Warzone guide, which offers an in-depth look at the attachments, perks, and equipment you should be running.

  • New Warzone cheat gives players unlimited UAVs – Dexerto

New Warzone cheat gives players unlimited UAVs Activision-BlizzardWhile cheating is something that has, unfortunately, become too common within Warzone over the last year, a new tool has emerged that gives players unlimited UAVs while roaming the map. Call of Duty Warzone is undoubtedly one of the best battle royales to emerge within gaming over recent years, and it’s success has propelled the franchise to new levels of popularity due to the chaotic nature that is Warzone. But, while the game is stellar in some regards, there’s cheaters/hackers running rampant around the map and this can lead to frustration. While they’ve seemed to make some leaps and bounds in regards to the anti-cheat, a new cheat has surfaced which grants players unlimited UAVs to see where everyone is on the map. Unlimited UAVs While there’ve been some outlandish cheats in previous Warzone seasons, this one appears to be a bit extreme at first glance. It was made public on Twitter by CallofDutyHope, who shined light on the new cheat that players should be wary of. Essentially, this cheat allows players to have an unlimited UAV while roaming around Verdansk, and it doesn’t matter if you have Ghost equipped since they’ll still be able to see you. Clearly, this is a massive tool that players can use to gain an extreme advantage over other players. Not knowing someone has access to your location at all times is terrifying, and it almost guarantees a lost match. LMFAO there’s a new tool in Warzone I’ve been made aware of that lets you see people anywhere on the map even if they have ghost and it constantly pings like a UAV… pic.twitter.com/SGAIyri2oE — ً (@CallofDutyHope) July 12, 2021 This does seem to be a pesky issue that could interfere with Warzone matches, and there’s no telling how this cheat came to be within Warzone. At the time of writing, it hasn’t been acknowledged by Activision-Blizzard, so there isn’t a timeline for when a fix will be pushed, but hopefully it’ll be patched soon.

  • New Warzone bug makes grenades completely useless – Dexerto

New Warzone bug makes grenades completely useless A bizarre Warzone grenade bug has surfaced in Season 2, completely stopping players from using their explosive equipment and triggering random animations. Despite Warzone’s incredible popularity, the prevalence of bugs and exploits in the game have been immensely frustrating to players. Whether it’s the ‘infinite stim’ glitch that Raven just can’t seem to eradicate or the ‘demon gun glitch’ (which has been eradicated), bugs and glitches will have affected almost all players at one point or another. While a game of Warzone’s size was bound to have bugs and inconsistencies, some members of the community have argued that Raven and Activision have been too slow to solve issues, especially the game’s ongoing battle with hackers. The bug was captured by one Redditor, who was swiftly downed as a result of his issues. Ambushed by an enemy team around Airport, the player tries to use a small shed as cover. However, going to throw their Semtex, an odd animation is triggered, more similar to a character putting a Gas Mask on or calling in a UAV. The result was that the Semtex remained un-thrown, and the enemies in question swiftly downed the frustrated player. “I tried to throw semtex twice,” the Redditor explained, “but the UAV/gas animation started instead… wtf.” It’s not the most common bug in Warzone, but a number of Redditors also replied to confirm they had experienced similar issues, and similar results. “It’s happened to me too, got me killed,” one replied. We’re also not sure what caused the issue, with the player’s game functioning normally apart from the Semtex-specific issues. As of the time of writing, neither Raven nor Activision have responded to the problems. For a full look at the Warzone bugs they are investigating, check out their dedicated Trello board.

  • New Warzone BAR loadout turns it into a close-quarters monster – Dexerto

New Warzone BAR loadout turns it into a close-quarters monster ActivisionThe BAR assault rifle is making a return in Warzone Pacific and this time it’s packing a heavier punch with a build that turns it into a close-range demon. With Vanguard weapons being added to Warzone with the Pacific update, the meta saw a massive shake up as new builds were being discovered. People first noticed how strong the BAR was when the Automaton got nerfed in the middle of a tournament. After that the BAR became more prominent in the battle royale and even had it’s place in the meta. However, it received some nerfs and was left to collect dust as the Bren emerged as the front runner. But now Warzone streamer P4wnyhof is bringing the deadly AR back and this time with an insane rate of fire. Warzone BAR loadout with fast rate of fire If you’re looking to save time, then we have listed P4wnyhof’s attachments to recreate this fast shooting BAR below. Muzzle: Recoil Boosted – Barrel: CGC 30” XL – Optic: ZF4 3.5x Rifle Scope – Stock: Chariot WR – Underbarrel: Mark VI Skeletal – Magazine: 8mm Klauser 30 Round Mags – Ammunition: Lengthened – Rear Grip: Polymer Grip – Perk: Hardscope – Perk 2: Fully Loaded – As you’ll probably notice, his setup uses the 8mm Klauser 30 Round Mags, Recoil Booster, and Lengthened, which are not common but heavily influence the fire rate of this gun. In a YouTube video, the streamer explains why this gun can be so deadly up close despite being an assault rifle. While it’s not ideal, this BAR’s rate of fire and damage lets it compete with the likes of the MP-40 and other close-range damage dealers. Stack that with its low recoil and you have an insane loadout that can dominate Caldera. So, next time you drop into Warzone, give this a try and see if it can rise back into the meta.

  • New Warzone 2 ‘lagswitch’ hack is ruining matches ahead of Season 2 – Dexerto

New Warzone 2 ‘lagswitch’ hack is ruining matches ahead of Season 2 ActivisionWarzone 2’s cheating problem has increased tenfold since the game’s release and now a new ‘lagswitch’ hack is running rampant and totally destroying matches. Community frustrations over cheating in Warzone 2 have been ramping up as Season 1 draws to a close. Posts from players all around the world have shown off the various types of cheats that have been implemented since the game’s November release. While the in-game anti-cheat is catching some percentage of the hackers that are terrorizing lobbies, clips like the one embedded below showcase the kind of things that are still slipping through the cracks. New Warzone 2 ‘lagswitch’ cheat leaves community furious When someone with this power enters a match there’s not much that anyone can do to stop it. As shown in the video embedded below, the game will ‘rubberband’ players around, getting them completely discombobulated while trying to play. A version of this tactic has been used before to completely crash servers, often to stop enemy squads from achieving their nuke, but is now more commonly used to frustrate and interrupt the lobby temporarily. This kind of interference with the server, known as a DDoS, or Direct Denial of Service attack, is a regular occurrence in online games. It was prominent back in the heyday of CoD’s 6v6 multiplayer but has only been actively appearing in Warzone 2 since after the turn of the year. While there is still optimism in the fanbase about the arrival of Resurgence and the changes to looting in Season 2, the continued ramp-up of cheaters has taken a toll on many players. “Feels like it’s two or three times a night at this point,” one player commented. “Can’t even have fun on this s**t anymore.” There is no mention of the problem on Raven Software’s Warzone 2 Trello board for known issues but will have the latest updates if the developers acknowledge the issue in the future.

  • New video previews remastered Summit multiplayer map in Black Ops 4 – Dexerto

New video previews remastered Summit multiplayer map in Black Ops 4 Treyarch have released a new video that previews how the remastered version of the Summit map will look in the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 title. The remastered map was revealed on October 1, in a video posted on Treyarch’s official Twitter page. Summit is a classic multiplayer map that was featured in the original Black Ops title. It is considered to be one of the most fan-favorite maps in the Call of Duty series. Set in the Ural Mountains of the USSR, Summit is a narrow map with a snowy terrain. The map is full of various multi-level buildings and structures, and numerous narrow gaps and pathways. The official in-game description of the map in Black Ops 4 reads: “Black Ops Flashback: Cold War surveillance is at its peak above the clouds in this mountaintop listening post in the Ural Mountains. Summit was not the only map to be given an official preview for Black Ops 4 on October 1; the brand new multiplayer map called ‘Morocco’ was also showcased in a video earlier the same day. However, unlike Morocco, Summit had been announced as one of the maps back in June during a Treyarch live-stream, along with three other remastered maps from previous Black Ops titles. With Summit and Morocco, there are 12 confirmed maps that will be available when the game launches on October 12. As of now, it is unclear what the total number of maps will be at launch, but another one was teased in a recent trailer that featured a jungle terrain with trees, foliage, some sort of body of water.

  • New version of snaking breaks MW3 multiplayer lobbies – Dexerto

New version of snaking breaks MW3 multiplayer lobbies ActivisionMW3 players already thought snaking was terrible enough, but now PC players have uncovered an even scarier version. Snaking dominates Call of Duty League community conversations, but not for the right reason. The movement mechanic refers to players positioning themselves behind an object on a map and quickly switching between prone and crouching positions. Snaking makes it hard for players to shoot at players behind cover, and pro players commonly took advantage of the mechanic in MW2. A large segment of the CDL community argued that snaking ruins the viewing experience watching pros constantly bob and weave behind cover every round, instead of taking on gunfights. Thankfully, Sledgehammer Games confirmed the studio is “actively investigating” what can be done about snaking. However, a worse version of snaking just reared its ugly head in Modern Warfare 3, and videos of the glitch are spreading like wildfire. Snaking 2.0 takes over MW3 On November 20, COD content creator Repullze showed a clip of the new glitch dubbed “Snaking 2.0.” As shown during Warzone pro HusKerrs’ stream, there is a way for operators to slide across the map like a snake. It’s unclear how players are able to pull off the feat, but it reportedly only works for players using keyboard and mouse. Community members couldn’t believe their eyes in the comment section. Several community members claimed that this glitch first appeared in Black Ops 1. One player responded: “I remember seeing this first time in Black Ops 1, good times.” A second user joked: “I gotta see someone do this with the look at Randy Orton slithering sound.” And a third player claimed: “This will get patched very quickly.” As of writing, Sledgehammer Games has not responded to the bug. In the meantime, console users have the option to turn off MW3 crossplay if they want to avoid mouse and keyboard players.

  • New “Up To Speed” Episode Explores the Relationship Between EG’s ACHES and Assault: “After I smoked FormaL in that round 11, that’s when our relationship kinda kicked off” – Dexerto

New “Up To Speed” Episode Explores the Relationship Between EG’s ACHES and Assault: “After I smoked FormaL in that round 11, that’s when our relationship kinda kicked off” Evil GeniusesA new episode of “Up To Speed With EG COD” has been released which focuses on the “father and son” relationship between Patrick ‘ACHES’ Price and Adam ‘Assault’ Garcia. ACHES and Assault played with one another on Cloud9’s Call of Duty team from August of 2016, during the Black Ops 3 season, until the organization’s departure from the scene in August of 2017 at the end of the Infinite Warfare season. Assault moved on to Echo Fox and ACHES joined Evil Geniuses, but neither team lived up to expectations and eventually Assault left Echo Fox and found himself back on a team with ACHES, this time under the Evil Geniuses banner. The team’s first outing was an impressive one as they took second place at the $200,000 CWL Seattle event in April. Now their main focus is on Stage 2 of the CWL Pro League, where they currently sit in third place in Division A. Read More: – The relationship between the two players, from the outside looking in, has always seemed to be one of student and master, or “father and son”, and this was the main focus of the latest “Up To Speed With EG COD” episode. The episode is full of laughs and jokes but they both point to the Cloud9 vs. OpTic Gaming match at the 2016 Call of Duty World Championship as the “start” of their relationship. Cloud9 eliminated OpTic from that particular event thanks to Assault winning a nail-biting 1 vs. 1 against Matthew ‘FormaL’ Piper in the very final round of the series. “Basically after I smoked FormaL in that round 11, that’s when our relationship kinda kicked off from there. Went to the next event next year, got second.” ACHES goes on to explain why they get along so well, pointing out that they are both able to “roast” each other without getting offended. He also notes that their chemistry in-game is particularly strong and that their playstyles work well together, especially in Search and Destroy. “I think me and Adam’s relationship is special because in-game and out of game we can kinda roast each other, have some fun with it, and not take it personal, we get along pretty well in that aspect where we just don’t take much serious. In-game we work really well. I think we have good chemistry, especially in Search and Destroy when it comes down to clutching. I think our playstyles just benefit from each other a lot.” The episode can be found below.

  • New train coming to Warzone map in Season 5 – how will it work? – Dexerto

New train coming to Warzone map in Season 5 – how will it work? Infinity Ward[jwplayer qiSnM8TU] The upcoming Season 5 of Modern Warfare and Warzone will be introducing an all-new train to the battle royale map, and here’s everything we know so far as to how it’ll work. With Season 5 set to kick off on August 5, Activision and developers Infinity Ward are starting to reveal more and more about what’s coming next in Modern Warfare’s fifth chapter. The new trailer gave fans a good glimpse of what to expect in terms of new content, one of which was a change to Warzone that’ll add a moving train to the map. In the video, the train can be seen riding throughout Verdanks, carrying both equipment and people. At one point, a player appears to return from the gulag and gun down his would-be assailant(s), confirming that you will be able to ride the vehicle. (Segment begins at 0:26 mark) How will it work? We won’t know the exact specifics of the train until Season 5 fully launches, but the trailer and leaks from other sources give us a good idea of how it’ll function. For one, it appears to be riding throughout the map, which means players will be able to use it to not only get around Verdansk a lot more quickly but also play more aggressively as well, which should only make the fan-favorite ‘bot race’ Warzone tournaments even more popular. Read More: How to download Season 5 update early – Secondly, it’s almost definitely going to carry loot, probably including high-tier items, which will make landing on it or trying to ride it a high risk/high reward decision. This is not only from the video, but also according to an earlier leak from prominent dataminers ‘ModernWarzone.’ Also, the trailer made it clear that the train will be as close to an unstoppable force as you can get. At one point, it runs straight through a jeep that’s attempting to cross the tracks last-second, destroying the vehicle and presumably downing everyone inside it. So, keep that in mind if you’re thinking about attempting some daredevil tricks with the train around. Parallels with Apex Legends Fans of Apex Legends will instantly recognize this new change as being very similar to when Respawn Entertainment did the same to their then-new map, World’s Edge, back in October of 2019. Just like now in Warzone, the Apex devs added a train that carried prized loot and offered players a way to get around the map swiftly. In terms of how successful it’s been, most players would probably call it a good feature, one that changes how the game can be played but doesn’t dominate the meta. So it’s not hard to see where Infinity Ward got the inspiration for this from, but that said, however, only time will tell whether it’ll be a successful change or not. Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 5 will launch on Wednesday, August 5 (11 PM on Aug 4) on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

  • New trademarks reveal possible name for Kroenke LA Call of Duty team – Dexerto

New trademarks reveal possible name for Kroenke LA Call of Duty team Pixabay / MLGThe name of one of the two Call of Duty franchises that will be based in Los Angeles, California has potentially been revealed, thanks to newly discovered trademark filings. With the brand new Call of Duty League inching closer to the start of its first season, more and more information is beginning to surface about the franchises involved. The latest development on that front appears to be the name of one of those 12 teams – the LA-based franchise owned by Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE) – being revealed. According to a September 16 report put out by DBLTAP, two trademarks were filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on September 11, one for “Los Angeles Guerrillas” and “LA Guerrillas.” Read More: H3CZ joins NRG after OpTic exit – KSE Call of Duty, LLC, are listed as the owners of both applications, as well as attorney Andrew M. LaFrance, who is also indicated on the trademark paperwork for “LA Gladiators” and “Los Angeles Gladiators,” the Overwatch League team that’s owned by KSE. Further providing confirmation of the trademarks’ authenticity, the address provided on the applications is 1000 Chopper Circle in Denver, Colorado, the location of Pepsi Center, a venue owned by KSE. As for the contents of the applications themselves, in addition to trademarking the team names, they included goods and services, such as “downloadable computer application software for mobile phones, namely, software featuring information in the field of esports.” Also included were “backpacks, jerseys, baseball caps, hoodies and jackets (among others); toys, action figures and action figure accessories, toy figures and board games; electronic game competitions, entertainment services in the nature of esports leagues, and ‘entertainment services in the nature of production of live multimedia entertainment content featuring eSports; providing of training, namely eSports training.’” If this information holds true, then KSE’s LA franchise would be the first CDL team to have their name revealed, with all other 11 franchises yet to provide such details. According to the league’s philosophy, all of the city-based organizations will have branding and names that represent their host city in one shape or form. Read More: Vince Staples pokes fun at Scump – Aside from Los Angeles, which will also be the home of Immortal Gaming Club’s CoD franchise, the other host cities are Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Florida, London, Minnesota, New York, Paris, and Seattle. • New Toronto Ultra stars aiming for glory in 2023 CDL season: “The goal is always the same” – Dexerto

New Toronto Ultra stars aiming for glory in 2023 CDL season: “The goal is always the same” Toronto UltraThe Call of Duty League’s Toronto Ultra have officially unveiled their new roster, and the squad spoke exclusively with Dexerto about how the team came to be, the possibility of a multi-year Modern Warfare 2 season, their plans to topple CoD’s biggest teams, and why the IGL role has become overstated in Call of Duty esports. Toronto Ultra became a fan-favorite team in recent seasons, with a European roster that had earned the respect of every opponent and fan alike. Always resilient, they were a dynasty-beating team at their peak, and they were so easy to root for. But, with the departure of Ben ‘Bance’ Bance and Cameron ‘Cammy’ McKilligan to Minnesota RØKKR in the offseason, the team needed to find the best players to fit into their ethos and, ultimately, help them push for a world championship. Jamie ‘Insight’ Craven and Tobias ‘CleanX’ Juul-Jønsson were left to build the best team they could, and in stepped Thomas ‘Scrappy’ Ernst and Eli ‘Standy’ Bentz. According to CleanX and Insight, bringing these two in was a no-brainer. How Scrappy elevates Ultra’s game In a statement to Dexerto, Scrappy was described by OverActive Media (Ultra’s parent company) Chief Strategy Officer, Adam Adamou, as “the first of the next generation of personality-driven superstar players that the CoD ecosystem is so good at fostering.” Insight, taking on the de facto leadership role following the departure of Bance, couldn’t agree more. “Scrappy was one of the most sought-after players after this season, so it was just a no-brainer to get him in with the talent he has,” he said. “As soon as the season ended it was like, right, we need to get him in. The kid’s a beast.” Scrappy certainly brings new energy to Toronto Ultra that the franchise hasn’t seen in some time. The Cold War and Vanguard iteration of the roster was always calm, collected, and almost emotionless during maps, led by a Ben Bance who could often be seen looking as though he was meditating between maps. Fans would still see them get excited after big wins, but it wasn’t a trait they were known for by any stretch. In steps Scrappy, however, and things look slightly different. “I’ve always been like that, even when I wasn’t a big person in the league or anything,” he explained. “When I was playing 2v2 challs with my friends, I was still always like that. It’s just how I’ve always been. I just can’t wait to get on stage and show everybody what I’m ready to bring.” Asked whether we could expect Scrappy to present a calmer version of himself on the main roster than he did in Challengers, it’s clear that’s not part of his plans. “I don’t think I’m going to come down to their level. I’ve always been a super high-energy person, and I know that if I just keep the energy up on every map, no matter how it goes, the team will never lose confidence in any series or map we’re playing. I can’t wait.” Standy: “He’s available, we’ve got to get him” As for Standy, he joins from Minnesota RØKKR, a straight change of direction in what has been dubbed the ‘Battle of the North’ — and he admitted that joining Toronto Ultra was always top of his list. “After the season ended I was already very high on playing with CleanX,” he said. “I thought Scrappy was a very good player, and Jamie too. So even after the season ended, I was always reaching out, asking what was happening, because they were always top of my list and I feel like it’s a place I could fit really well with my role and the way I play.” This sentiment was echoed by CleanX, with the entire team believing Standy was the best person to play alongside him in that impactful SMG role. Asked whether Standy was always at the top of his list to be his duo, the Dane couldn’t have been more certain: “Of course. You’re always looking at your options, rostermania’s chaotic so you’re always waiting to the last stage, but as soon as he became available, it was just a matter of time until he signed.” Leadership on Toronto Ultra The camaraderie between the players is clear. They sound excited to even hop in our call together, let alone to be teaming and going to battle with one another when the season starts. This is likely helped, in large part, due to the fact that they’re all young players. Their heads will be in the same place, with Insight, due to turn 23 years old in October, the oldest of the lot. They know they’ve got the years ahead of them, but they also come together with a similar understanding of CoD, the league, and the world around them. To some critics, though, this has been a point of concern. With such a young team and no players who have stood out in recent years as a leader figure, will they have issues when it comes to the fundamentals of the game and having one individual leading the line? This quartet, unlike their critics, doesn’t believe there’s an issue. Insight said: “Honestly, it’s a role I’ve been wanting to take on myself. I’ve learned a lot off Ben [Bance] and what he brought to the team. I’ve been around the scene since I was 15 years old, playing at the top level I would say, so I know what it takes and what you have to do. It’s just all about learning and getting better.” Standy explained that he also believes he can help in a leadership role when it’s required of him. “I think there are certain moments on the Minnesota team that I was very vocal and micro-managing some of the plays they made and some of the strategies,” he said. “I feel like I’m pretty vocal when it comes to playing, being vocal, and putting my ideas into the team.” The idea of an In-Game Leader (IGL), they say, is a little outdated and overstated in Call of Duty anyway. “I feel like this is a team that’s going to be big on ‘anyone can call something at any moment,’” said Scrappy, who was met with resounding agreement by his teammates. “With how competitive the league is now, you’ve got to be able to make the millisecond decisions, and that just comes down to each player being vocal and stepping up when it matters,” agreed CleanX. “It fits the new generation, I would say. We’re all young, we all understand CoD, and we’ve all played it for a long time. Everyone on this team is able to step up when it needs to be done.” “Stepping up” seems to have been a key theme when putting this roster together. As Insight reiterated in our conversation several times, they wanted to form a squad with “pop-off potential,” where any player could take over at any given time. Whether the Modern Warfare 2 season lasts one year, two years as rumored, or even more, this team was built with raw ability and talent in mind. That’s not all, though. As Insight said, “the one big thing for our team, no matter who’s on our team, who’s coaching, who’s doing anything, it’s always a family. You feel like you’re part of something, and the goal is always the same for our team, year in and year out. “No matter the players, we keep going. Our perspective and what we want to do never changes. The goal is always the same.” Modern Warfare 2 drops on Friday, October 28, and the CDL season is expected to have started by the end of the year. Between now and then, though, Toronto Ultra are firmly focused on one thing: becoming a championship-winning team.

  • Gameplay of Brand New Sub-Machine Gun ‘ZK-383’ Coming Call of Duty: WWII – Dexerto

Gameplay of Brand New Sub-Machine Gun ‘ZK-383’ Coming Call of Duty: WWII ActivisionA brand new SMG is set to release in Call of Duty: World War II, the ‘ZK-383’, a weapon of Czechoslovakian origin, as part of the upcoming third DLC release. YouTuber TheseKnivesOnly has been flown out to Sledgehammer Games studio to test out the new additions to the game, which also include three new basic trainings and a new division. The basic training’s are ‘Specialist’, ‘Wanderlust’ and ‘Escalation’, were first introduced in a video from TheseKnivesOnly, and you can find all the details on these right here. The next day, on June 24th, the YouTuber uploaded his next video, this time on the brand new ‘Cavalry’ division, which includes a riot shield and other abilities. And, as part of the new reveal, TheseKnivesOnly also indicated that this new division will have its own exclusive SMG – and he leaked the name in the video. “Later in the day, I’m going to posting another video on the SMG that comes with Cavalry. Now you can use this SMG with other divisions, but it is a free to use weapon as soon as it drops, because it comes with the Cavalry division.” TheseKnivesOnly did not actually say the name of the weapon, however, it is clearly visible at 4:01 minutes in the video, as he kills and opponent and it gives him the option to pick up the ‘ZK-383 Custom’. Another image also shows the weapon in hand, with a “switch to fast-firing option” available, visible in the bottom left. The ZK-383 was the Czech equivalent of the Sten in WWII, and while it was often fitted with a bi-pod, the version in the game looks to have removed this, judging from the image. The weapon also appears on Call of Duty Wikia, described as being ‘scheduled to release’, with the description ZK383_MP. *Update* – TheseKnivesOnly has now uploaded a full gameplay video of the new SMG, which you can watch below.

  • New Stim Glitch? Warzone players already exploiting new Nuke Radiation Zones – Dexerto

New Stim Glitch? Warzone players already exploiting new Nuke Radiation Zones ActivisionAhead of the Warzone Season 3 launch, the game has introduced Radiation Zones into Verdansk, but some players have already figured out a way to exploit the new areas with a novel variation of the “Stim Glitch.” Season 3 of Warzone quickly approaching, and ahead of the previously leaked ‘Nuke Event’, Activision and Raven Software have added new nuclear areas to the map that deal damage to players who cross into them. The difference between these zones and the regular circle of gas, however, is that the zone deals damage on a much smaller scale, taking out only around five or 10 health at a time. Because of this, some players have figured out how to exploit the areas by using Stims. As shown in the Reddit post above, you can use Stim to regenerate your health completely while in the Radiation Zone before being downed by the damage. Because the radiation does so little damage, having the Restock perk in your loadout can actually regenerate a whole new Stim in the same amount of time, theoretically allowing you to survive within the zone indefinitely. It is worth noting that the usefulness of this “exploit” is questionable at best. For example, if the area falls outside of the gas circle, you won’t last very long, since there’s no way to survive in the regular gas. That means this is only practical if the circle ends up in the Prison/Shipwreck area. That said, it’s definitely something to keep in mind if you find yourself near or inside the Radiation Zones, especially since you’re guaranteed to come across players who have turned into Zombies by staying inside too long. As for if/when this will be fixed, since the nuclear areas aren’t expected to last past the start of Season 3, don’t expect Raven to prioritize it in the remaining days of S2.

  • New “Sticks and Stones” Playlist Gets Accidentally Added to CoD: WWII Before Getting Quickly Removed – Dexerto

New “Sticks and Stones” Playlist Gets Accidentally Added to CoD: WWII Before Getting Quickly Removed It appears that a new playlist called “Sticks and Stones” could soon be coming to Call of Duty: WWII The classic game mode appeared in the Multiplayer menu of the game before mysteriously disappearing, leading players to believe that it had been added early by mistake. Twitter user @g9james_ tweeted out a picture of the game mode appearing on his screen as he described how he came across it in the first place. “umm, not sure if this was suppose to be in the game yet, but I tried to play it and it put me in a lobby of kill confirmed on shipment. Then it made me do a patch update and it changed back to shipment 24/7” According to the picture, the mysteriously added game mode could accommodate a party size of 1-2 players and required an overall player count of 3-6. The description on the screen reads: Score points with kills from Defective Rifle Grenades & the M30 Rifle Bullet. Bankrupt enemies with the Throwing Knife. It is not yet clear when or if the game mode will actually be added to WWII. We will provide any official information as it is announced in the coming days by developer Sledgehammer Games. Read More: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Multiplayer Set to be Playable at the $200,000 CWL Anaheim Open – Sticks and Stones first appeared as a wager game mode in the first Black Ops title, before coming back as a party game mode in Black Ops II. Here is an official description of the mode, as provided by the Call of Duty Wiki page: Sticks and Stones consists of six players competing in a Combat Axe. Like a Free-For-All game, points are earned from kills, and the match ends when the time runs out. However, if a player manages to kill another with a Tomahawk/Combat Axe, they will “bankrupt” the target. Also, if a player commits suicide with Crossbow, they humiliate themselves and get “bankrupted”. If a player is “bankrupted”, they lose all points earned so far in the match; they will have to start over from zero points. To win, a player must reach one of the three highest scores once the time limit is reached.

  • New stats show Twitch viewership numbers of Black Ops 4 compared to Fortnite and League of Legends – Dexerto

New stats show Twitch viewership numbers of Black Ops 4 compared to Fortnite and League of Legends The release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has gone as well as developers Treyarch and publishers Activision could have hoped. The newest title of the popular first-person shooter series has seemingly lived up to its hype, and the viewership statistics back this up. According to analytics provided by The Esports Observer, one of the world’s stop sources for esports business news and insights, Black Ops 4 has taken over viewership on Twitch since its release. From October 11 to 17, the game has amassed a total of 29.66 million hours watched on Twitch, which leads second place League of Legends (25.94) by over 3.5 million hours. This is especially impressive considering that the LoL World Championship is currently taking place, and is the biggest event in the esport’s competitive season. Rounding out the top-three, with 18.01 million hours, is Fortnite, which many are predicting that Black Ops 4’s Blackout battle royale mode will challenge in popularity.

  • New Statistic Shows Which Player Took Down the Old OpTic Roster the Most During Three Year Stint – Dexerto

New Statistic Shows Which Player Took Down the Old OpTic Roster the Most During Three Year Stint New statistics compiled by a Reddit user shows which player took down the old OpTic Gaming roster the most during their three-year stint. Originally formed during the Advanced Warfare season in 2015, the OpTic Gaming roster of Ian ‘Crimsix’ Porter, Damon ‘Karma’ Barlow, Seth ‘Scump’ Abner, and Matthew ‘FormaL’ Piper quickly became one of the most feared rosters throughout the entire community. The squad went on to win a collection of tournaments and LAN events in their time together, including the 2017 Call of Duty Championship during Infinite Warfare where they cemented themselves as one of the best teams of all time. • New Standoff Gulag in Warzone Season 3: first look & walkthrough – Dexerto

New Standoff Gulag in Warzone Season 3: first look & walkthrough ActivisionA new season in Warzone means a brand new Gulag, and longtime Call of Duty fans will be happy to see the iconic Black Ops 2 map Standoff is the new battleground for survival in the battle royale. When Standoff was first announced to be coming to Black Ops Cold War, veteran CoD players rejoiced at the thought of the classic BO2 map being remastered for the 2020 title. Little did they know, it would also be added to Warzone and in more ways than one. Not only is it now an actual location on the brand-new Verdansk ‘84 map, but it’s also what the new Gulag is themed after. Much like the previous Gulag, which was based on Nuketown, this new one also has taken a section of Standoff and recreated it almost like a movie set, so while it may not be the identical look of the map, it’s definitely shaped like it. The specific section of the map that this is based on is the main central area, where there is a tank right next to the big statue, facing the two-story building that has a window on the second floor. Just as with every iteration of the Gulag so far, this one also features a viewing area where players can watch the action while they wait for their turn to battle it out to the death. Read More: Warzone Season 3 patch notes – As of the time of writing, Raven Software have not revealed what rotation of weapons they plan on going with for this, which is an important aspect considering players’ frustrations with how many times they had to fight with just their fists. During a press briefing with Raven, the devs said that their plan was to keep the Gulag updated “frequently.” Players are guaranteed to see and play in it virtually every match, so the massive play-time combined with the small space has the devs wanting to constantly make changes to avoid it becoming stale. It’s not clear exactly what their plans are beyond Standoff, but for now, enjoy the classic Black Ops 2 version of the Gulag while it’s available in Warzone. • New Specialist score earn rates after Black Ops 4 April 9 update – Dexerto

New Specialist score earn rates after Black Ops 4 April 9 update The latest update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 introduced a major change to how Specialists work in competitive modes, and now the new official score earn rates have been confirmed. Changes made to Specialist cooldowns On April 9, developers Treyarch implemented a change in both League Play and the official CWL ruleset which now allows each Specialist’s main Weapon or Ability to be unlocked by score only. Previously, the cooldown for each Specialist was charged up by both score and time spent alive in a match, but continuous negative feedback from the competitive community compelled Treyarch to balance things out. New Specialist score earn rates As a result of this massive change, the earn rates for each Specialist’s main Weapon or Ability were also modified, seeing as how earning them in-game is now solely dependent on score. Tony Flame, one of the game designers at Treyarch, revealed that them main Weapon/Ability of the Ruin, Battery, Zero, Crash, and Prophet Specialists would be fully charged up at 1700 score. Firebreak’s Purifier will be unlocked at 2200 score, the Seraph’s Annihilator at 2400, and the Recon’s Vision Pulse at a whopping 2550. Below, you can find the new score earn rates for each of the Specialists, along with the time it takes for their Equipment to unlock. It’s important to note that this update has not affected Equipment charge rates, which continue to be based on time only. Read More: CoDBurner leaks new intel on OpTic, FaZe’s future, Fero, and others as RosterMania kicks off – Keep in mind that all of these score requirements can be decreased by using the Equipment Charge gear, although its exact effect on teach of these new rates has not been determined yet. The stats for the Equipment Charge below are going off of the effect it had prior to this update. Battery War Machine: 1700 Score (EC: 1200) Cluster – 1:00 (EC: 50 seconds) Crash TAK 5: 1700 Score (EC: 1175) Assault Pack: 1:45 (EC: 1:15) Firebreak Purifier: 2200 Score (EC: 1575) Reactive Core: 1:50 (EC: 1:25) Prophet Tempest: 1700 Score (EC: 1300) Seeker: 1:45 (EC: 1:00) Recon Vision Pulse: 2550 Score (EC: 1950) Sensor Dart: 1:45 (EC: 1:00) Ruin Grav Slam: 1700 Score (EC: 1350) Grapple Gun: 0:15 (EC: 0:10) Seraph Annihilator: 2400 Score (EC: 2000) Tac-Deploy: 1:40 (EC: 1:10) Zero Ice Pick: 1700 (EC: 1100) EMP Disruptor: 1:15 (EC: 0:50) Yep the SnD meta will be totally changed. Recon will be extremely hard to earn, even if you had Equipment Charge. For SnD I recomend Ruin, Battery, Zero, Crash, and Prophet that will all be fully charged at 1700 Score. Recon you will need 2550 — Tony Flame (@Tony_Flame) April 9, 2019 What does this mean for Search and Destroy? As powerful as each Specialist’s main Weapon or Ability is, they all have the potential to be game-changing, especially in Search and Destroy. By making these new score earn rates universal for all competitive game modes, the effect of these Weapons and Abilities in S&D is mitigated, as players will sometimes simply not be able to get them in time, especially the more powerful ones. This seems to be exactly what Treyarch had in mind in implementing this change, and it looks as though the majority of the competitive CoD community approves of this change in the SnD meta.

  • New SMG Armaguerra 43 is 100% silent in Vanguard due to bizarre bug – Dexerto

New SMG Armaguerra 43 is 100% silent in Vanguard due to bizarre bug ActivisionThe Armaguerra 43 is a brand new SMG in Vanguard Season 2 Reloaded, but players have already uncovered a bizarre bug where the gun becomes completely silent when firing. One of the marquee additions to CoD Vanguard Season 2 Reloaded is the Armaguerra 43, a serious contender to the MP40 and Welgun in the SMG meta. Players were understandably excited to jump into multiplayer after its launch are start trying it out. But shortly after the weapon was made available in-game, users quickly discovered that all was not well. As has been the case with Vanguard throughout its lifespan so far, the new SMG is being hit by an unusual glitch. Players are reporting that the Armaguerra 43’s audio is bugged, making it completely silent when firing. Vanguard attachment bug makes Armaguerra 43 completely silent This strange issue appears to rear its head when players equip the SMG with a silencer. Rather than just suppressing the sound to keep it hidden from the radar, it mutes the audio altogether no matter how long they hold the trigger down for. Reddit user LLlMIT uploaded a video showing the glitch in action during a multiplayer match on Das Haus. While the rest of the game’s audio worked as intended, every bullet that left their gun had no sound accompanying it. What makes this even stranger is that the sound effects for hit markers still played loud and clear, and you could hear the wood being chipped away when they fired at a door. Another clip posted by Reddit user boxx_4 showed the vast difference between the Armaguerra 43 with a silencer vs. without. In a private match on Shipment, the player fired the gun without a silencer and you could hear the sound working as intended. As soon as they switched to a suppressed loadout, the audio droppeded out again, leaving an eerie silence over the map. Based on the second clip here, there’s no doubt that the silencer is the cause of the new SMGs sound issues, however, it’s impossible to tell if the glitch has any effect on opposing players being shot at. It’s unfortunate to see such a fundamental issue so soon after the Armaguerra 43 launched in Vanguard, but the good news is that the gun is still useable if you can ignore the lack of sound. There’s no sign of the glitch on Sledgehammer Games’ official Trello board as of yet. But the devs usually don’t take too long to address problems like this, so hopefully we’ll see a fix in the coming days.

  • New Sgt. Pspsps cat skin in MW2 & Warzone 2 divides CoD community: “This can’t be real” – Dexerto

New Sgt. Pspsps cat skin in MW2 & Warzone 2 divides CoD community: “This can’t be real” CharlieIntelArmed with whiskers and weapons, ‘Sgt. Pspsps’, the new cat-themed operator skin in the ‘Whisker Tango’ bundle, has divided the Call of Duty community. The release of the Whisker Tango bundle, costing 2,400 CoD points (equivalent to $20), seemed harmless enough. It came with a trove of cat-themed goodies, including feline operators, kitty-inspired weapon blueprints, stickers, a vinyl, an emblem, and even a new vehicle skin. But it was the Sgt. Pspsps Operator skin, turning players into a combat-ready cat, that clawed its way into the spotlight. The reaction to the feline soldier in a game that has traditionally stayed within the bounds of military realism has left the community in two camps. Players took to social media to voice their views, resulting in a litter box of opinions. Some are basking in the situation’s absurdity, embracing the new bundle’s playful side. One Reddit user posted a video titled “Laser Cats!” showing Sgt. Pspsps decimating enemies with laser eyes, a controversial feature recently introduced through a crossover with Amazon’s The Boys. Comments like “Cats when you don’t feed them on time” and “The kitty got sick of chasing the laser” reveal a portion of the community finding humor amidst the feline chaos. However, not all CoD fans are tickled by the cat transformation. Some are openly critical of the game’s perceived diversion from its roots. Comments like “This can’t be real,” “Wtf is happening to this game lmaoo,” and “I can’t believe this is what COD has become” reflect a sense of bewilderment and frustration among some players. One fan even expressed their conflict, admitting an adoration for cats but a reluctance to witness the feline operator’s potential in-game demise. The news has also sparked discussions about the value of the new additions, particularly in light of the steep price tag. The full feline fantasy, with laser eyes to boot, requires purchasing not just the Whisker Tango bundle but also The Boys x MW2 crossover bundle, costing a total of 4,800 CoD points or approximately $40. Despite the humorous novelty of laser-wielding cats, some fans question the wisdom of such an investment, with one player stating, “in what world is a skin worth 40 dollars?” Who knows what’s next for Call of Duty? Until then, expect Sgt. Pspsps to dominate the battlefield, one laser beam at a time.

  • Ex-Machinima producers roast CoD culture with new YouTube series – Dexerto

Ex-Machinima producers roast CoD culture with new YouTube series A new web series from a group of former Machinima producers has taken a tongue in cheek approach to Call of Duty culture as Modern Warfare launches. The series is called Modern Wardudes, cheekily aiming for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in its title, and is being helmed by director Stephen Ford of Machinima fame. It takes inspiration from the live-action Call of Duty commercials, such as There’s a Soldier in All of Us, but with a more humorous spin as seen in movies like Tropic Thunder or the new Jumanji films. So how did this project come about? Since Machinima is no more, Ford opened up Ascender, his production studio, and focused on making “fun, action-packed content.” The inspiration for the series can be found in Machinima’s past, all the way back to early YouTube. “When I was producing over at Machinima, I was a huge fan of the Battlefield Friends, and I grew up on Red vs. Blue,” Ford told Dexerto. “I wanted to create something similar but for the Call of Duty community where episodes centered around the mechanics and experience of playing the game.” In the trailer for the series, the cast of Modern Wardudes debate the name, trying to come up with a better one than what’s on the title card. In the end, they couldn’t improve upon it. Modern Wardude’s characters reference a series of text messages that decided the title of the show – which wasn’t fictional. “Weirdly, it was challenging to come up with the name as there aren’t a ton of puns that go with Modern and Warfare. I’m sure someone will suggest a better one in like two months, and we’ll kick ourselves for not thinking of it. Other rejected titles for the show included Bros of Duty, Modern Warhorses, Modern Warboys, and even Model Warfare. With Modern Warfare’s launch already proving to be a massive success for Activision Blizzard, Ascender is hoping to ride the hype wave. “We’re taking a gamble and doing this entire thing totally on our own,” Ford said in closing. “Luckily, we’re working with some awesome people and former Machinima alums who are just excited to create something fun.” Ascender and Ford have 10 episodes of Modern Wardudes written for the series, with the first episode set to drop on Monday October 28. If these first 10 are successful, they have 60 more outlined to drop throughout the year.

  • New Season 5 weapons shown for Warzone & Modern Warfare – Dexerto

New Season 5 weapons shown for Warzone & Modern Warfare Infinity Ward[jwplayer SmN5cmUl] Two new weapons – the APC9 and AN-94 – have been teased in the Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 5 trailer as Infinity Ward gear up for the launch of their games’ next chapter. At the start of every season in Modern Warfare, the developers have released two brand new weapons for both multiplayer and Warzone, and Season 5 stands to be no exception. That said, determining which guns would make their debut in Season 5 was nothing more than a guessing game until Activision finally released a sneak peek trailer on July 30. While the video doesn’t outright reveal what the weapons will be, eagle-eyed fans spotted them being used by the new Shadow Company Operators, since they definitely don’t look like anything that’s currently in the game. The image above, which is a piece of promotional artwork for the new Shadow Company, shows what players believe will be the two guns introduced in Season 5. The first is a submachine gun in the hands of the two closer characters, which could very well the APC9. Created by Brügger & Thomet, the APC9 is an SMG that’s similar to the UMP in that it can deliver a quick and powerful punch from short-to-mid-range distances. This isn’t the first time this SMG has been linked with Modern Warfare; its existence in the game files was leaked all the way back in November, and it seems that Infinity Ward have decided now is the time to actually add it. Following the Season 5 trailer, Modern Warfare leaker, BKTOOR, has shared some early gameplay of this new SMG ahead of its expected release on August 5. The brief clip reveals an in-game look at the APC9 on Cheshire Park, however, it is unclear just how it will stack up against guns such as the Mp7 or Mp5. The next new weapon, which can be seen held by the Operator that’s farthest from the camera in the first image above, appears to be a remade version of the AN-94, an iconic assault rifle that’s been featured in all four Black Ops titles. Its distinct curved magazine, two-part barrel, and long body are all recognizable from the trailer, and it makes even more sense considering that this AR, much like the APC9, was found in the back-end files months ago. The only likely difference between this new 2020 version and past models will probably be the name, as Infinity Ward have always changed what their new guns are called even if they’re just remakes of old ones. In fact, one leaker on Reddit claimed to have found the reload animations for the AN-94, which he showed by applying them to a Grau and recording the result. While all of this is the likeliest scenario, it won’t be set in stone until Activision and Infinity Ward fully reveal the details of the upcoming season, which will also include at least one new multiplayer map, three new Operators, and more. It won’t be long until we find out for sure, however, as Season 5 of Modern Warfare and Warzone is set to launch on Wednesday, August 5, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

  • New rumors suggest Modern Warfare 2 Remastered could be released soon – Dexerto

New rumors suggest Modern Warfare 2 Remastered could be released soon ActivisionModern Warfare 2 Remastered has been a long-standing rumor, but new developments suggest a 2020 release could be on the cards for Infinity Ward. With Sledgehammer Games now dropped from the development of the next release of Call of Duty, plenty has been flying around the rumor mill in relation to what Activision has planned next. Kotaku have confined it to a one-horse race, as Treyarch has been reportedly drafted in to lead the project. But fresh rumors suggest that might not be the only change of schedule. A remastered version of Modern Warfare 2 has supposedly been in the pipeline for years, and was all but confirmed following reports from CharlieINTEL back in March 2018. Read more: Will Call of Duty Warzone kill Blackout? – However, as the hype began to snowball on Modern Warfare’s prequel, the rumors of a campaign-only version of MW2 dwindled away into the background. That is until a Twitter user under the alias ‘Okami13_’ posted a Tweet claiming that a MW2 remaster was in the works and primed for a 2020 release. https://twitter.com/Okami13_/status/1233602563154620416 Not only did the Twitter user claim that it’d release “this year,” but they also contended that the title would release with a multiplayer — seemingly going against the grain of previous rumors. To address the elephant in the room, Okami has previously leaked accurate information pertaining to the Gunfight Open Alpha which was released back in August 2019. https://twitter.com/Okami13_/status/1156777174579470336 Moreover, the Twitter user has claimed that the highly speculated battle royale – also known as Warzone – is due to be released on March 10, with their Tweet claiming to reveal some of the details. “When all of this comes true, you will know I’m right about MW2R coming this year,” the supposed leaker noted at the end of their post. https://twitter.com/Okami13_/status/1235373045025513472 Of course, Okami’s March 5 Tweet joins a long list of leakers and eagle-eyed fans who have already tipped Warzone to release on March 10. However, with their previous leak success rate, we’d be naive to completely dismiss their claims that Modern Warfare 2 could be remastered later this year. Of course, it goes without saying that these rumors must be taken with a pinch of salt until Activision releases something official to the public.

  • *UPDATED* New Reports Claim Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Will Be a Battle.net Exclusive and Could Feature Cross-Platform Play – Dexerto

*UPDATED* New Reports Claim Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Will Be a Battle.net Exclusive and Could Feature Cross-Platform Play UPDATE: A YouTube video has been released from the people that claim to have leaked the images which shows that they were photoshopped. The original Gaming INTEL article is currently unchanged. The video can be seen here. New reports have started to surface about Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 which claim the new game will be a Battle.net exclusive for PC users. With the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 community reveal event not due to take place until May 17th, the constant speculation and leaking of rumors is at an all-time high. These rumors range from the game using grappling hooks and advanced movement all the way to there being a separate Battle Royale mode being developed by Raven Software and released alongside the main game. Now a new leak claims that the PC version of the game will be a Battle.net exclusive, meaning that Call of Duty’s long-standing deal with Steam could be coming to an end. Read More: The New OpTic Gaming Call of Duty Roster Has Been Announced Following Weeks of Speculation – In a report from Gaming INTEL, two images showing Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s integration with the Blizzard owned Battle.net platform seemed to confirm these rumors. The first image shows the Black Ops 4 logo underneath the Destiny 2 one in the Battle.net launcher and the second shows the Battle.net shop page with Black Ops 4 once again displayed next to Destiny 2. Credit: Gaming INTEL500Credit: Gaming INTEL500 The move would certainly make sense as the Battle.net launcher is specifically used for games from both Blizzard and Activision and it would mean that the developers would no longer have to share any of their sales revenue with Steam. According to Gaming INTEL, sources state that another reason for this decision is that Acticision is putting a new focus on the PC side of things and wants to create “the best PC port of a Call of Duty title since Black Ops 2”. But perhaps the most interesting nugget of information comes from the final few lines of the article where Gaming INTEL claims that sources have also revealed that the Battle.net move is signs of future cross-platform functionality: “From what this source has heard, a greater focus is being pushed onto Battle.Net because multiple devs have been testing cross-platform functionality. The source said that Battle.Net will fast resemble Epic Games own launcher, where you can add people from other platforms such as the Xbox One and PS4, though they also have no idea how far along this additional functionality is into development.” With the massive success of cross-platform play on Fortnite Battle Royale, and the incredible amount of support that Epic Games received for it, it seems only natural that other developers are finally starting to think about making similar moves. According to Gaming INTEL their source has been accurate in the past but we are unlikely to know anything for certain until May 17th.

  • Activision reveal plan for Call of Duty releases with new franchised league – Dexerto

Activision reveal plan for Call of Duty releases with new franchised league CWL / TreyarchCall of Duty titles throughout the years, even as their pro scene is branching into a franchised system. It’s an exciting time for Call of Duty esports as the parent company is looking to give it the big-budget investment into a centralized league just like they do with Blizzard’s popular team-shooter with the Overwatch League. Overwatch released in 2016, but even still, frequent hero releases and constant balance changes have kept the game feeling fresh and is a great title to build a whole league around. Activision Blizzard aren’t transitioning this model over to the planned franchised league which will be launching next year, however. The company said in their Q2 investor call that new titles “continue to drive the most engagement to the Call of Duty franchise every year” for the parent company and this will carry through to the franchised era of esports in the title, rather than existing as a live service game in the vein of Overwatch. This means that players and teams will have to adapt to new games every fall (or however often the new release pattern) as has been tradition in the Call of Duty esports space. Of course, the Rostermania that occurs may be a little dialed back with franchised teams looking to build brands around their players instead. Millions of players for the series have grown accustomed to playing new titles in the franchise yearly, and it doesn’t seem likely that Activision Blizzard are going to be altering course on that any time soon, judging from their comments today. Modern Warfare is going to be the next tent-pole to come out, and so far every reveal and gameplay clip of the upcoming title has been ramping up the anticipation for its release among fans. The annual excitement for a new CoD is to be expected at this point, but Activision Blizzard have a unique opportunity with their upcoming franchised league. New titles have the opportunity to provide the upcoming franchised league with consistent hype, while audiences will be intrigued by franchised league to watch the best Call of Duty players compete in those yearly releases.

  • New PS5 update shuts down Cronus Zen support – Dexerto

New PS5 update shuts down Cronus Zen support DexertoPlayStation has brought the hammer down on Cronus Zen users in the latest PS5 update, which shuts down support for the controller mod. The Cronus Zen controller modifier recently began gaining traction for its ability to tweak aim assist in games like Call of Duty and Apex Legends. The modifier makes guns more accurate than what was originally intended. Cronus Zen could be purchased in most places where controllers are also sold, such as Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and GameStop. But, the draw of having better aim comes at a hefty price tag. One controller mod will set a user back over $100. This surge in Cronus Zen purchases was initially to combat mouse and keyboard users who naturally had more precise aim thanks to a lack of aim assist. However, the Cronus Zen attachment is considered cheating due to its auto-aim capabilities. Cronus Zen no longer usable on PS5 On January 24, 2024, PlayStation released an update to all PS5s, which will shut down the software associated with Cronus Zen. When plugged into the controller, the Cronus Zen will no longer stay connected to the console, rendering it useless. “We’re aware of an issue with Zen and the PS5,” said Cronus Zen on their website. “As of this morning, the console is prompting everyone to update, and if you do, Zen will no longer connect to the PS5 without disconnecting.” The creators of the mod say there is no fix for the PlayStation for the foreseeable future. Which will make those attempting to use it in their games have to scrap their $100 black box. This shutdown stings because Cronus Zen isn’t just for cheaters. People who need accessibility features to play games with controllers are also caught in the crossfire. This update unfairly impacts those who rely on the product to make their gaming experience more inclusive.

  • New Path to Pro system announced for upcoming CWL season – Amateur Circuit, National Qualifiers, and more – Dexerto

New Path to Pro system announced for upcoming CWL season – Amateur Circuit, National Qualifiers, and more The Call of Duty World League has announced a new Path to Pro system for the upcoming Black Ops 4 season, establishing a proper competitive scene for amateur players. The most notable aspect of this new Path to Pro system is that it establishes the Amateur Circuit, a dedicated LAN competition for amateur players. The Amateur Circuit will feature a double-elimination open bracket tournament with its own prize pool, and will be played at every “Open” style LAN event starting from the second one of the year. Read More: Full format for Black Ops 4 2019 CWL Season and Pro League – pool play, qualification and roster rules – The tournaments will take place at the same time and venue as its corresponding LAN event, and the grand final of each competition will be played on that event’s main stage. The Amateur Circuit will give players outside of the CWL Pro League a great opportunity to make a name for themselves, it will also be from where Pro league teams will likely pick out their sixth man substitutes, which they are required to under this season’s rules. This dedicated amateur circuit is not only a great way for up-and-coming players and organizations to get support throughout the season, but also for Pro League organizations to see and scout the biggest rising stars in the esport today. And that’s pretty important, because Pro League rosters will now require a sixth player as a substitute from outside of the CWL Pro League. This season’s Path to Pro also introduces the brand new CWL National Qualifiers, which will replace last season’s National Circuits. National Qualifiers will feature 16 teams competing in an online tournament to win a trip to compete at an upcoming LAN event, including full travel and accommodations. However, this means that, unlike the CWL Pro League and Amateur Circuit, the rosters for National Qualifiers will be region-locked and participating players will have to be from that tournament’s countries and regions they are Last but not least, online competitions for Pro Points will be returning for the Black Ops 4 competitive season and will play a role for amateur players trying to climb up the ranks. Once the game launches, players will be able to compete in CWL Ladders and weekly tournaments to earn Pro Points, which will help determine the seeding for invitations to CWL LAN events and Pro League qualification tournaments. • New Outbreak mode coming to Black Ops Cold War Zombies – Dexerto

New Outbreak mode coming to Black Ops Cold War Zombies Treyarch/ActivisionBlack Ops Cold War’s Zombie Outbreak mode has been accidentally leaked by the developers themselves, seemingly confirming the new undead CoD experience is on the brink of release. With the arrival of Black Ops Cold War Season 2 set to arrive on February 25, it’s fair to say the Call of Duty community is incredibly excited. The new trailer depicts a lush jungle environment and gives fans a few teasers of what they can expect from the update. Despite this, apart from a few clues, nothing concrete has been shared on any new Zombies content for the title. The last thing to be added to the game for Zombies was Firebase Z, and that’s been massively popular with fans so far. Well, a new leak may have just confirmed the rumors of a new mode arriving. New leak confirms Cold War Zombies Outbreak mode Although fans had heard reports that a new Zombies mode was coming, nothing had been confirmed by Treyarch. Now, a huge leak accidentally posted to the Call of Duty app has confirmed a new Outbreak mode for Zombies. Read More: Best M16 loadout for Black Ops Cold War – The leak doesn’t go into much detail but it does describe the mode as a “new, large-scale zombies experience.” This suggests Outbreak may put players into a bigger map that requires more operatives to take out the increased amount of enemies. It will be interesting to see if Treyarch opts to shake-up the typical Zombie formula with this mode and create something unique and different. From what we know now, it’s extremely likely the next Zombies map will be set in the Ural Mountains. The location is even mentioned at the end of a recently discovered Zombies cutscene. Read More: How to upgrade Monkey Bombs in Firebase Z – However, at this point in time, we still don’t know any details on the Outbreak mode and exactly what players will be doing within it. As the release of Season 2 is so close, it’s likely Treyarch will reveal a lot more information on the mode very soon. Let’s just hope Outbreak enhances the Zombies experience and gives Black Ops Cold War fans something to get excited about.

  • New Nvidia hack could make Warzone cheaters undetectable – Dexerto

New Nvidia hack could make Warzone cheaters undetectable ActivisionA new Nvidia hack by ransomware gang Lapsus$ appeared to be bad news for Warzone players and the ongoing battle against cheaters. Though new intel suggests there may be nothing to fear. Warzone has plenty of issues as is with weapon balance and a seemingly never-ending amount of bugs and glitches, but a new problem has presented itself. According to reports, the ransomware group Lapsus$ had successfully hacked graphics card behemoth Nvidia, gaining access to source code and confidential data. While this may not seem relevant to Warzone, an anti-cheat watchdog group warned that there could be major ramifications for all games as a result of this hack. The LAPSUS$ Nvidia leak sadly also gave cheaters an advantage here. They are now capable of signing their cheat with an Nvidia cert which is bad for all games no matter the anti-cheat.@nvidia fix this immediately. pic.twitter.com/6bPFtbbn9l — Anti-Cheat Police Department 🕵️ (@AntiCheatPD) March 1, 2022 Watchdog group warned Nvidia could affect Warzone Anti-cheat PD, a group that documents nefarious activities by hackers and efforts made to stop them, revealed the Nvidia hack could give cheaters another advantage. “They are now capable of signing their cheat with an Nvidia cert which is bad for all games no matter the anti-cheat,” they wrote on Twitter at the time. “Nvidia, fix this immediately.” Speaking with Dexerto, the group explained how cheaters are able to use the Nvidia certificate to sign their own driver and make it look like a legitimate Nvidia program. “Usually, leaked certificates are blocked by anti-cheats, but in this case, a big cert like Nvidia is probably a challenge to tackle since everyone has this on their machine as legitimate software,” the group noted. “Any type of cheat that is that uses this certificate because the cheat becomes a legitimate software,” they added, further saying that this can be an issue for every game, regardless of how good the anti-cheat is. With anti-cheat efforts against hackers in Warzone improving thanks to RICOCHET detecting and punishing those ruining games, this new development could have spelled doom for developers. Fortunately, more recent intel suggests these new certificates have already been blocked. Meaning Warzone’s anti-cheat system should be able to prevent any new issues that may arise.

  • New muzzle attachment in Warzone Season 5 takes over close and long-range meta – Dexerto

New muzzle attachment in Warzone Season 5 takes over close and long-range meta ActivisionModern Warfare 3 and Warzone quietly introduced the Quartermaster Suppressor as part of the Season 5 update, and players argue it’s one of the best attachments available. Activision did not mention the Quartermaster Suppressor in the Season 5 patch notes, but the update added the attachment. Players must activate its Armory Unlock and complete eight daily challenges to unlock the muzzle. Upon completion, players can equip it with any primary weapon. The Quartermaster Suppressor improves gun kick and horizontal and vertical recoil. Players have gravitated toward this attachment because it only nerfs ADS and sprint-to-fire speeds by six percent, while other muzzles have a harsher movement penalty. Warzone content creator JGOD explained why you should use the new muzzle over the ZEHMN 35 Compensated Flash Hider or VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor, which previously stood out as the best options. “I know some people still like the ZEHM but when you compare these, it’s not that big of a difference, JGOD argued. “Negligible differences in ADS and sprint-to-fire speeds, and you get way more recoil control.” JGOD added that the versatility of being able to use this attachment on every weapon makes it a compelling option, making it arguably the best new addition since the JAK BFB muzzle. “I don’t think we have ever had an attachment that is so nice to use,” JGOD claimed. Based on previous history, there is always the chance that an overpowered attachment gets nerfed, so players should equip this attachment soon to experience it in its current state. When the JAK BFB muzzle took over Warzone in March, Raven Software responded, by nerfing the attachment. Players slammed the devs for downgrading an attachment that everyone uses, but Raven Software did not budge. Modern Warfare April 21 patch notes: Cabin Fever 24/7, new Operator, more Infinity WardModern Warfare has gotten a variety of new modes and playlists for multiplayer, giving people more ways to play after the April 21 update landed across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. With Modern Warfare Season 3 very much in full swing, developers Infinity Ward have pushed through a playlist update that’s injected more new content into the game. This patch introduced a new Operator as well as a revamped playlist that keeps the fighting at a close distance. For players who wanted more intensity in their games, Infinity Ward have bringing Cranked back to Modern Warfare for more high-octane action. Cabin Fever playlist and Cranked The new playlist restricts the mosh pit with small-to-medium-sized 6v6 Multiplayer contests where there’s bound to be high kill-counts throughout every game. The new Cabin Fever 24/7 playlist brings classic multiplayer modes to smaller maps like Rust, Shipment, Shoot House, Hideout, and Hackey Yard. A lot of players know these maps for the chaotic action that springs on a dime, but the devs have also brought back Cranked, a mode where people have to constantly keep in motion to get kills before they blow up for not collecting eliminations fast enough. New weapon bundles & Operator In terms of new content to unlock, Modern Warfare has gotten two weapon bundles along with a brand new Operator that takes after a member of the U.S. Special Forces. The new character’s name is Ronin, who can be purchased and used in Multiplayer or the Warzone battle royale. For the two weapon bundles, CoD players can pick up the ‘Fool’s Gold II’ and ‘Toxic Ooze’ packs that contain individual Legendary blueprints. Fool’s Gold II comes with the Deep Pockets blueprint, as well as a print for a ‘Bankroll’ epic weapon, calling card, emblem, and spray. Meanwhile a green weapon variant is included in the ‘Toxic Ooze’ bundle. The ‘Sludge’ Legendary weapon has a biohazard emblem on the face of the gun with green waste shown on the top of the gun. Gunfight Trios tournament Gunfight Trios has made its return to Modern Warfare and was immediately included as a new tournament option in multiplayer. Teams of three players go up against 15 others on maps like Cargo to battle for dominance, with winners receiving exclusive cosmetic items as a reward. April 21 update patch notes Added Cranked (replaces Drop Zone) – Cabin Fever 24/7 (Shipment, Rust, Shoot House, Hackney Yard, and Hideout) – Removing Stir Crazy playlist – Removing Realism Ground War – Removing Aniyah Palace from Ground War –

  • New Modern Warfare spot allows players to snipe with ease on Piccadilly – Dexerto

New Modern Warfare spot allows players to snipe with ease on Piccadilly A ridiculous jump-spot has been discovered on Piccadilly that allows snipers to look over the entire Modern Warfare map like never before. Having already received its fair share of criticism across the board, with the likes of Matthew ‘Nadeshot’ Haag describing it as the “worst Call of Duty map ever made,” Piccadilly has now become even more frustrating due to this absurdly powerful sniping spot. While some setup is required to get to the tricky position, the benefit in doing so is truly immense. Not only will you catch your opponents by surprise, but the vantage point also comes with some surprising cover. Showcased throughout a December 2 tutorial, Reddit user ‘Susieomaha’ broke down each step necessary to reach the ridiculous sniping perch. Having climbed atop one of the many double-decker busses scattered throughout the map, a well-placed Deployable Cover Field Upgrade then needs to be positioned right at the very edge in order for the maneuver to work. Mantling onto the unique form of terrain, players are then able to launch themselves across to a nearby ledge. Walking back and forth on the newly discovered high-ground is certainly possible, however the real benefit of the position comes when falling through the textures parallel to the bus. Carefully navigating closer to the center of the map, players will eventually fall straight into one of the ledges. Obscuring your character model, this position makes players much more challenging targets. Furthermore, crouching while inside the glitched texture will hide almost your entire body. Meaning that the only viable way for enemies to remove you from the perch, is to be at an equal elevation. Obviously quite far from the hot spots on the map, this vantage point is absurdly powerful for proficient snipers. Not only do you get a good amount of coverage near the B bombsite, but this spot also offers an overview of the central attacking lane. Accessible across every single game-type in Modern Warfare, there’s no denying that the glitched texture provides a remarkable spot on Piccadilly. With a good amount of set-up required however, it might not be worth the investment in round-based modes like Cyber Attack for instance. Instead, you could try this crazily fast strategy for Cyber Attack on Piccadilly and catch your opponents off-guard in the opening seconds of a round.

  • New Modern Warfare SMG accidentally made available in-game – Dexerto

New Modern Warfare SMG accidentally made available in-game Infinity Ward[jwplayer CpYYgnMn]We may already have our first look at a Season 4 weapon as one Modern Warfare player accidentally loaded into a game with an unknown SMG. With each new Modern Warfare season comes new maps, cosmetics, and even powerful weapons. The Call of Duty title’s third season kicked off on April 8 and delivered the KS semi-auto carbine, along with the 9mm Renetti pistol. An additional LMG was also added after it leaked in-game before its official release. History appears to have repeated itself, as another weapon has slipped through the cracks ahead of Modern Warfare’s next content drop. Upcoming SMG appears in Modern Warfare In an already SMG-dominated meta, it looks as though another powerful addition could be on the way in Modern Warfare’s Season 4 update. Loading into a game of Infected on May 11, one lucky player was randomly given an unknown SMG upon spawning. There was no trickery or glitching involved. The infected game type randomly hands out weapons and this particular instance provided a yet to be revealed SMG. ‘SM_CHARLIE9’ is the placeholder name for the weapon and this particular variant came equipped with 9mm Parabellum rounds. How powerful will the potential Season 4 weapon be? With 30 bullets in each magazine, this fast-firing SMG appears to be lethal from up close but difficult to control at range. Perhaps that is the balance of the new weapon in general, or the recoil has been exacerbated by the Parabellum attachment. Regardless, the reload speed is among the fastest we’ve seen in the SMG category. Barely a second after initiating a reload, you’ll be shooting again with an extremely rapid rate of fire. Damage is impossible to gauge without seeing the weapon in action against other players, but it certainly looks to pack a punch from up close. While this SMG appeared in-game at random, there’s no telling when it may be released, if at all. It could be released towards the end of Season 3, or it may never see the light of day. With a fully-functioning in-game model, however, it’s likely that we see more of this weapon sooner than later. Season 4 is just weeks away. Here’s when it’s expected to launch and everything that should be coming along with the next major content drop.

  • New Modern Warfare Season 5 teaser ties Warzone with MW2’s Shadow Company – Dexerto

New Modern Warfare Season 5 teaser ties Warzone with MW2’s Shadow Company Infinity Ward[jwplayer SZm0PqRr] YouTuber JackFrags has received a new teaser for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 5 and it makes reference to an organization seen in 2009’s Modern Warfare 2. Over the past few days, notable content creators have been receiving cryptic packages in the mail from Activision regarding Modern Warfare Season 5, which is set to bring a slew of new content to both the standard multiplayer and Warzone battle royale mode. Popular CoD YouTuber JackFrags is the latest to get a teaser, showing what appears to be the aftermath of the explosion at the Verdansk Stadium. While the video doesn’t show much, we can, see what appears to be smoke for a few seconds before hearing and partially seeing a helicopter shine its light at the camera before the video ends. Included with the package is a letter. While the letter itself is heavily lore-related, giving really no hint at any pieces of content are coming next season, it does mention an organization called Shadow Company multiple times. While that may just sound like an off-hand organization to some people, fans of Modern Warfare 2 might recognize this as the military unit run by General Shepherd who (spoilers) betrays the main protagonist at the end in one of Call of Duty’s most iconic twists. So what does all this mean? Well, at this point we really don’t know. Best case scenario, it could mean that General Shepherd is coming as the next Operator in Season 5. Despite dying at the end of MW2, we already know that he exists in this new MW world thanks to a mention by Kate Laswell in the game’s main campaign. Even if it’s not Shepherd, we know that there will be a new Operator in Season 5, and they’ll most likely be tied in with these teasers. As far as Warzone lore goes, we see again the mention of the mysterious Mr. Z, who has been built up as some major villain, even though he’s not been spotted yet. We already know that Mr. Z is planning something major in Verdansk, as revealed by Captain Price ahead of Season 4, so it looks like Shadow Company is being called in to help deal with the mess. JackFrag is now the third content creator to have received a Season 5 teaser from Activision. Twitch superstar NICKMERCS started things off with a clip that hinted at a train being added to the map, which was followed by TeePee playing a video showing Stadium seemingly getting destroyed by an explosion. Things are still murky for now, but it won’t be long, before we know what’s really going on. With Season 5 of Modern Warfare and Warzone releasing on August 5, we are only two weeks away from finding out the truth.

  • New Modern Warfare Season 5 teaser hints at Warzone Stadium explosion – Dexerto

New Modern Warfare Season 5 teaser hints at Warzone Stadium explosion Infinity Ward[jwplayer qiSnM8TU] Just a day after releasing the first teaser for Season 5 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone yesterday, Activision have rolled out another, this time to star Twitch streamer Tyler ‘TeePee’ Polchow. While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone have received a steady flow of content throughout the past few months, there’s always one thing fans can look forward to for new content: the start of a brand new content season. Season 5 for the first-person shooter is set to launch in August (if everything goes according to plan), and Activision have begun teasing it by sending mysterious clips to popular streamers, such as the one they sent to Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff on July 20. Read More: MW & Warzone July 21 update patch notes – Now, another teaser has surfaced, this time through TeePee. The video, which is also only a few seconds long, features what appears to be a security camera inside the currently blocked off Stadium on the of Warzone map. A few seconds in, a huge explosion takes the camera offline. This definitely throws most current speculation about the future of Warzone into a whirlwind. For the longest time, based on leaks and rumors, many believed that the Stadium would eventually be opened. Even Activision, in one of their game promotions, posted an image of the gigantic structure but with its roof wide open. The video above could be teasing that some sort of explosion will blow a hole in the arena’s walls and/or roof, which would allow players to breach the exterior and finally get inside. That said, the teaser could be for something else completely. The threat of massive explosions is nothing new in Warzone, even though none have actually happened yet. Clues found in the various locked Bunkers across Verdanks, including the nuclear warhead in Bunker 11, seem to suggest that huge destruction is on the way, which could very well start with what’s shown in TeePee’s clip. Prominent data-miner ModernWarzone, who always seems to be ahead of everyone else when it comes to Warzone and CoD in general, tweeted out claiming that an unreleased Season 5 cinematic begins with a bomb being transported, which might be what ends up exploding in the video above. Even the nature of the blast shown in the teaser seems to be more gradual rather than instantaneous, which further adds fuel to the fire that it’s something nuclear, as has been the popular speculation for a while now. What if the bomb in the bag in the upcoming #Season5 intro for #Warzone is the nuclear warhead from Bunker 11? Oh wait… we hadn’t reported yet about the intro for next season 😅#Oops #CallOfDuty #ModernWarfare — ModernWarzone (@ModernWarzone) July 21, 2020 There is, of course, also the chance that this could be tied in with the upcoming Call of Duty 2020 title, which still hasn’t been officially revealed yet despite it already being late in July. The overwhelming speculation is that the new CoD, which is expected to be called Black Ops, will be first teased during an in-game Warzone event, and considering that Season 5 will be kicking off in August, it seems to be the perfect opportunity to announce the next game.

New Modern Warfare Season 1 maps, modes, and cosmetics coming this week Season 1 rolls on in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare as Activision and Infinity Ward will be releasing more new content on December 18, including the highly anticipated remakes of the classic Vacant and Shipment maps. With the launch of Modern Warfare Season 1 on December 3 came what is being called the most significant post-launch content drop in Call of Duty history. The update included a remake of the iconic Crash map, two new Gunfight maps (one of which has an excellent easter egg), two weapons, a Battle Pass with over 100 Tiers, new multiplayer modes, and much more. However, not all of the new Season 1 content was released that day, as Activision revealed that they’d saved a good amount of it from being released periodically during the weeks that followed. Entering the third week of the new season, the third wave of new stuff is on its way, including two more classic maps, a new multiplayer mode, three cosmetic bundles, and more. Called Season One Refresh, this set will go live on Wednesday, December 18, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET and will be free for all players to enjoy right away. • Modern Warfare multiplayer trailer shows how matches start, teases new map – Dexerto

Modern Warfare multiplayer trailer shows how matches start, teases new map Infinity WardCall of Duty developers Infinity Ward have released a new clip teasing how some multiplayer matches begin in the upcoming Modern Warfare title. With Modern Warfare’s October 25 release date creeping closer and closer, Infinity Ward and Activision have started to drop teasers and tidbits of information leading up to the multiplayer global reveal on August 1. The latest teaser came in the form of a short clip tweeted out on July 25, which showcased the starting sequence of matches in multiplayer. In the teaser, players are shown to be escorted to the active area of a map via a helicopter. Once the chopper lands and the players disembark, a countdown timer appears on screen to indicate how many seconds there are before the match kicks off. Proceed to the LZ. The #ModernWarfare Multiplayer Premiere arrives next week on August 1st. pic.twitter.com/mkKVdrY6Q7 — Call of Duty (@CallofDuty) July 25, 2019 In addition to the clip, Activision and Infinity Ward released a blog post about the start of matches in multiplayer, revealing this entrance animation to be called tactical infils, or ‘infiltrations.’ These infiltration sequences occur between when players chooses their multiplayer loadout and the beginning of a match, with this helicopter transport being one of several infiltration types that will be featured in Modern Warfare. The blog post also revealed that the map shown in the teaser is currently named ‘Gun Runner,’ which appears to be some sort of war-torn factory and distribution depot nine kilometers outside of Verdansk, Russia. This is the first time that an actual multiplayer map has been revealed for MW, since the ones that were previously shown appear to be exclusive to the new 2v2 Gunfight mode. You can check out Activision’s full blog post below: Tactical Infil: A Descent into Multiplayer It is Day 215. You’re nine kilometers outside of Verdansk, Russia. ‘Operation Gun Runner’ is in full swing, as you descend and disembark from a deployment helicopter as part of Warcom’s 23rd Battalion. Perched on the side of the chopper, you’re listening to radio chatter, sitting next to another member of the Warcom forces; Operator ‘D-Day’, who’s holding an assault rifle (with a short stock). It looks like you’ve chosen an M4A1 (with Long Barrel and Hybrid Scope). As you drop onto the cracked concrete loading dock near this train yard, you fan out; ready to engage Allegiance forces. What you’ve seen is one of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare tactical infils (or ‘infiltrations’); this one shows a disembarking into the Multiplayer map currently named ‘Gun Runner”. These infils usually occur between the time you’ve chosen your Multiplayer Loadout and the start of the MP match.

  • New Modern Warfare multiplayer details revealed: interactive maps, night vision and more – Dexerto

New Modern Warfare multiplayer details revealed: interactive maps, night vision and more ActivisionInfinity Ward are going to be introducing new and revitalized elements to the Call of Duty formula that will give Modern Warfare various ways of immersing the players into the combat. Call of Duty fans around the world have been getting their first taste of Modern Warfare gameplay and so far fans are starting to get a feel of what the devs are going for in the upcoming title. While there’s been a lot of information coming out since Infinity Ward’s July 11 gameplay reveal, they previously invited numerous content creators to try out Modern Warfare and they’re starting to talk about their experiences with the game. Rule the night with better vision In his latest video, YouTuber ‘Drift0r’ gave more information about things he saw during his time with the latest version of Modern Warfare which will has surprises in store for eager fans. Even though fans will be familiar with night vision goggles in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, it seems Infinity Ward will be bringing that back to some degree but will be better than ever. Whether a player had night vision goggles on or not in COD4, it didn’t really make a difference. But from what Drift0r saw during his time with the game, the devs have a few things in store to really make the feature worth it. “There are some Multiplayer maps where it was very important to use night vision goggles,” Drift0r said. ”[Night vision goggles] have their own interesting mechanics and meta-game when it comes to lighting and how you aim-down sights under the goggles.” Interactive maps in Modern Warfare Battle-hardened Call of Duty players know Multiplayer maps inside and out, but it looks like they’re going to have extra elements to pay attention to in Modern Warfare. According to the YouTuber, all doors will be “open-able” but he also made mention that there will be other interactables like light switches (that could play into the night vision goggles) and garage doors. With the devs still working on the game, this could definitely give players a reason to think twice before approaching a map how they previously did. Modern Warfare already playable on PC While this might be more niche to some people, PC players have long felt ignored by Call of Duty entries in the past. Drift0r made note that the studio had PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game available to their testers, but there was also a smooth-running PC version available. “But I got to play on PC 1440p, 144FPS with no frame drops, no weird performance issues, no weird crashes, no problems whatsoever,” Drift0r said. This will be a godsend for the those in the Call of Duty community that prefer the PC, seeing as this entry to the franchise might be developed hand-in-hand with the console versions. Fans of the series are going to have a lot to look forward to when Modern Warfare releases on October 25.

  • Modern Warfare cosmetics revealed: character tattoos, body art and more – Dexerto

Modern Warfare cosmetics revealed: character tattoos, body art and more Call of DutyCall of Duty: Modern Warfare‘s multiplayer characters are set to have new customization options such as tattoos and body art, as revealed in new art book. Character customization options, such as in-game outfits and weapon skins, have been a popular feature among most online games to help players choose their characters distinctive look and stand out from other players – and to provide new content to sell. Call of Duty is among those games which offer players the chance to unlock or purchase many unique customization options with different weapon kits and character skins to keep their game fresh, and Modern Warfare will be introducing some new options. Players will have even more choices to customize their characters, after images from an upcoming book titled “Making Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” by Andy McVittie, who is known for documenting the development of many popular games such as with books like “The Art of Titanfall.” The images feature a first look at a collection of new tattoo concepts and other forms of body art for multiplayer characters in Modern Warfare which players will likely get to choose from when customizing their soldier. “Customization options are a crucial component of the multiplayer experience.” writes McVittie, “Our Combat Operators have a considerable amount of variations and incarnations. It’s amazing to think we went to this level of detail to render onto the character’s skin.” 500Alongside the images of character tattoos and body art, sketches for some of the Multiplayer Faction Icons were also revealed. It was revealed that these icons only make up a sample of what will be available for players to use as “faction insignias in the multiplayer battlegrounds.” 500Among the images revealed was also a look at some of the new Combat Operators which will be playable in Modern Warfare’s multiplayer mode, such as Bale and Syd. With Activision Blizzard claiming that Modern Warfare is set to have the “largest post-launch content” in Call of Duty history, it is unknown if the tattoo and body art aspect of character customization is to be expected to be included in the game launch on October 22. Modern Warfare have also revealed the addition of even more customization options with their new Gunsmith feature for weapons which was displayed by many of the streamers during the game’s multiplayer reveal. There has been no information shared on how players will be able to acquire the tattoos and body art cosmetic items in Modern Warfare as of yet, but based on previous titles it is likely that they will be available to earn through the ranking system as well as through supply drops.

  • New Modern Warfare leaks from v1.09 update: DLC maps, Battle Pass, more – Dexerto

New Modern Warfare leaks from v1.09 update: DLC maps, Battle Pass, more Data miners have discovered and leaked new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare content following the massive v1.09 update that went live in the game on November 22. The release of updates in Modern Warfare usually has a two-fold positive effect. Not only do they add new content and implement fixes, but they usually also include files in the back-end that data miners are able to find and leak. This was the case for the major v1.09 update on November 22, which apparently had references to some new content that will be coming to the game in the future. Data miners we able to find new information on two upcoming maps, Crash and Cargo, as well as the animated logo for the Season 1 Battle Pass, which Activision already confirmed will be coming at some point in December. Read More: Modern Warfare v1.09 update patch notes – Of course, as is always the case, leaked information cannot be considered official until announced by Infinity Ward and/or Activision themselves. Two new DLC maps – Crash and Cargo The v1.09 update included a new reference to Crash, which was one of the more iconic maps from the original Modern Warfare game that’s set to be remastered for this year’s title. While the map had already been leaked in a previous patch, the November 22 update contained what appears to be a loading screen for it. (Footage courtesy of Reddit user Senescallo) Several iconic aspects of the map can be immediately spotted, such as the broken helicopter in the middle, surrounded by rubble. However, there are some parts of it that are missing, which suggests that this version of Crash is still a work in progress. CARGO Data miners were also able to procure the first-ever image of a new DLC map called Cargo, which shows that it takes place on a massive cargo ship. This has many believing that it’ll be a remake of Wet Work, also a classic MW map, but that has yet to be confirmed since no mention of Wet Work was found in the files. Modern Warfare Season 1 Battle Pass animated logo The v1.09 update also included the first look at the upcoming Season 1 Battle Pass’ animated logo. The emblem is triangular in shape, and features a hooded skeleton figure holding a sword, along with the roman numeral for the number one at the center. (Footage courtesy of Reddit user Senescallo) Unlike the two DLC maps, players do have a sense of when this Battle Pass will be released, as Activision announced that it will be coming in early December. They also provided a breakdown of how they will work –the Passes will have both a free and premium stream of content exclusive to each season and players will be able to earn it all by playing the game, as there will not be any loot box system.

  • Activision announce that Modern Warfare will never have supply drops – Dexerto

Activision announce that Modern Warfare will never have supply drops Infinity WardCall of Duty publishers Activision have confirmed that there will not be a loot box system Modern Warfare, which instead will feature a Battle Pass. Over the past few years, Supply Drops have become a significant part of the popular first-person shooter franchise, allowing players to earn them through gameplay or spend real money on opening them in exchange for cosmetics. Many players were upset though when developers started adding actual weapons into these crates, forcing players who wanted to use them to essentially buy crates until they got it, and making fans feel that the game was becoming “pay-to-win.” As the game’s launch edged closer, players were angry when a leak claimed that the practice of putting weapons in loot boxes was set to continue, eventually forcing Activision and Infinity Ward to change course and remove them, announcing that they would not feature in the game. While this somewhat appeased players, it was expected that they would eventually appear in the title following release, but Activision but an end to that in an October 17 blog post announcing their new in-game economy system: We are introducing a new Battle Pass system, not a loot box system. – All functional content that has an impact on game balance, such as base weapons and attachments, can be unlocked simply by playing the game. – The new Battle Pass system will allow players to see the content that they are earning or buying. Battle Passes will launch timed to new, post-launch live seasons, so you can unlock cool new Modern Warfare-themed content that matches each season. – With the new Battle Pass system, players will be able to earn COD Points by playing the game. – There will be both a Free Stream and a Premium Stream of content in the Battle Pass System in Modern Warfare. New base weapons will be earned through gameplay, simply by playing Modern Warfare. Functional attachments for base weapons can be unlocked through gameplay as well just like in the game’s Beta. – The Battle Pass and the In-Game Store will feature a variety of cosmetic content that does not impact game balance. – The Battle Pass System for Modern Warfare will not launch when the game releases on October 25. Here’s why: First and foremost, we are all focused on making the Day One experience awesome. Second, it’s important to us that everyone who is playing Modern Warfare has the chance to work their way through the new game and unlock all the rewards that are waiting for you. We expect to launch this system for Modern Warfare later this year. Understandably there are still questions around how the economy will evolve throughout the post-launch, live seasons. We recognize this will take time to fully demonstrate. Please know we are committed to delivering a fair system guided by the principles we’ve outlined here, and will continue to monitor feedback and player engagement to help us achieve that goal. Please look for more information on the live seasons and post-release content plans for Modern Warfare throughout the year and beyond. Furthermore, it appears that this approach will not be limited to Modern Warfare, as Treyarch tweeted out: “This is great news for the community from Call of Duty, starting with Modern Warfare.” This suggests that the 2020 installment, which is being developed by Treyarch due to Sledgehammer being in disarray, will also not feature the classic microtransaction system that players have become accustomed to. This is great news for the community today from @CallofDuty, starting with Modern Warfare. https://t.co/GuRwEDuYgj — Treyarch Studios (@Treyarch) October 17, 2019 It goes without saying that this represents a huge change in philosophy for Activision, who are ditching a system that earned them unfathomable amounts of revenue since Advanced Warfare. That said, that income came at a cost, as the company developed a very negative reputation when it came to sticking everything behind a pay wall, particularly with the Black Ops 4 title. If they stick to their word, and avoid doing what they’ve done many times before, it will go a long way towards helping improve the players’ perception of how Activision do business.

  • New Modern Warfare content leaked: Soap operator, 3 new Warzone weapons – Dexerto

New Modern Warfare content leaked: Soap operator, 3 new Warzone weapons Infinity Ward / ActivisionCall of Duty leaks have revealed an early in-game look at three new weapons, the CX-9, Raal MG, and Sykov, as well as Soap MacTavish’s operator skin that is coming to Modern Warfare and Warzone. As Black Ops Cold War is integrating with Modern Warfare’s battle royale mode, Warzone players will have plenty of choice when it comes to selecting their loadouts and operators from either game. Despite the addition of all the Cold War guns and characters, there seems to be even more on the way, with leaks revealing three new weapons and an operator coming to Modern Warfare and Warzone. Soap MacTavish and new weapons in Warzone It was previously leaked that the Makarov, a classic CoD pistol, would be added to Modern Warfare, but it has now been leaked by prominent data miner BKTOOR as the “Sykov”, who also revealed a look at the gun in-game. Read More: Warzone update fixes Stim and Loadouts bugs – BKTOOR shared a look at two other leaked weapons that are expected to arrive in a future Modern Warfare update: the CX-9 & Raal MG. The CX-9 or “Skorpion” is another classic weapon that has appeared in previous Black Ops titles and it is known for being a submachine gun with a high fire rate. There was also a new LMG revealed called the “Raal MG” and it also appears to have one of the highest fire rates, compared to other weapons in its class. The prominent Call of Duty leaker also revealed an early look at Captain Soap MacTavish’s skin in-game, following his reveal in the Warzone Intel Mission, but the leak has since been removed from Twitter. As with all leaks, it is worth noting that these weapons and character skins are still subject to change before Infinity Ward decides to release them in-game. It is also unclear when these leaked items are expected to arrive in Warzone and Modern Warfare but we’ll be sure to update you with more information when they are announced.

New Gunfight and multiplayer modes – Snowfight & Drop Zone Following the holiday-themed revamp to the Docks map in Gunfight, Infinity Ward will also be adding a new mode to be played specifically on that winter map. The mode, called Snowfight, replaces weapons with snowballs, which players have to throw at their opponents to eliminate them. The other new mode, Drop Zone, will be a regular multiplayer playlist. In Drop Zone, players have to capture objectives on the map, which is the only way to earn Killstreaks. Players who continually hold the drop zone will get a Care Package delivered to their location containing a specific Killstreak. Holiday XP promo event & new cosmetic bundle This update will also kick off another XP promo event in Modern Warfare multiplayer, granting both Double XP and Double Tier earn rater. The promo will become active on December 24 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET and conclude on December 27 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. • New Modern Warfare 3 feature lets players completely avoid Flash Grenades – Dexerto

New Modern Warfare 3 feature lets players completely avoid Flash Grenades ActivisionIf you are sick of getting blinded by Flash Grenades, Modern Warfare 3 introduces a new feature to dodge the annoying equipment item. Modern Warfare 3 introduces a few new grenades to add to your arsenal. The Thermobaric Grenade creates a large explosion that stuns enemies and increases the lethality of explosives for a period of time. Meanwhile, the EMD Grenade applies a tracking device to enemies hit, revealing them on your team’s minimap. With the game in beta, Sledgehammer Games could also easily have other new additions in store. But the devs didn’t just add equipment items. They also fundamentally changed how the age-old Flash Grenades work. MW3 takes a page out of Counter-Strike’s book and allows players to avoid getting flashed by grenades. And thankfully, the maneuver doesn’t require too much skill to pull off. How to dodge Flash Grenades in Modern Warfare 3 Sledgehammer Games explained: “In MW3 Multiplayer, you can avoid the blinding effect of a Flash Grenade by looking away before detonation.” Community members in the comment section were equally overjoyed about the announcement and excited to try it out for themselves. COD leaker TheGhostofHope responded: “W. Better late than never.” A second user added: “What! That’s a great tip! It’s all about strategy and staying one step ahead in the game.” However, it’s always easier said than done to look away right before a grenade detonates. A third player joked. “Me turning the other way just to get hit with another flash.” To take further measures, players can always equip a Tac Mask, which reduces the strength of enemy flash, stun, and gas grenades. Only time will tell how much of a difference this change will make on the game’s meta. But the next time you are attempting to clear a room with the help of a Flash Grenade. It may be worth double-checking your corners even if you don’t get a hitmaker. That’s everything we know about flash grenades. For more, check out the rest of our Modern Warfare 3 coverage.

  • New Modern Warfare 3 feature finally addresses MW2 weapon progression complaints – Dexerto

New Modern Warfare 3 feature finally addresses MW2 weapon progression complaints ActivisionModern Warfare 3 introduces Armory Unlock, making it possible to earn weapons, attachments, and more early. Infinity Ward attempted to streamline Modern Warfare 2’s unlock process, but community members slammed the “mind-boggling” system. For example, unlocking the FTAC Recon required players to level up the M14 to 14. Or you had to level up a shotgun to unlock an AR attachment. Players didn’t like being forced to use weapons they usually wouldn’t choose. It’s unclear if MW3 will remove the platform system, but Sledgehammer Games introduced a clever way to expedite the unlock process. Here is everything you need to know about the armory unlock challenges. What is Modern Warfare 2 Armory Unlock? Armory Unlock challenges offer an option for Modern Warfare 3 players to unlock weapons, equipment, perks, killstreaks, and attachments early. When you reach level 25, you unlock the Armory Unlock system. You can choose any valid item that you haven’t unlocked yet and then start the progression toward earning it. Completing daily and bonus challenges earns progress toward unlocking the activated item. Bonus challenges are repeatable challenges that are unlocked after completing all daily challenges and are infinitely repeatable. In multiplayer they require winning a match, and in Zombies, they require completing Contracts. CharlieIntel posted the feature, and fans flooded the comment section with praise. One Modern Warfare 3 player responded: “If done correctly, and not tied down to tedious objectives, this could be a very good alternative if nobody wants to grind levels.” A second user added: “this is actually really cool.” In response to no longer needing to level up other weapons, a third commenter argued: “So we can unlock attachments early instead of waiting for the gun to level up? Sounds like a W.” All will become clearer when Modern Warfare 3 opens its multiplayer servers soon.

  • New Modern Warfare 3 army veteran Operator is actually The Rock’s cousin – Dexerto

New Modern Warfare 3 army veteran Operator is actually The Rock’s cousin ActivisionCall of Duty Modern Warfare 3 has just unveiled its newest operator, with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revealing online that Koa King is in fact inspired by his cousin who is a real-life Navy Veteran of the United States. Call of Duty is one of the most famous video game franchises of all time. As a result, it has become commonplace for the series to introduce celebrity operators for gamers to embody throughout multiplayer mayhem. The likes of Nicki Minaj even being transformed into a playable CoD player most recently. The newest Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Operator, while not directly a celeb, is in fact a relative of one of the biggest names in Hollywood, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. In collaboration with Veterans Day, a federal holiday in the United States that recognizes and celebrates the dedication of those who have served in the military, CoD has introduced its newest Operator, Koa King. Koa meaning warrior in Samoan. On Twitter, The Rock confirmed that the Koa King is played by his cousin Ben, who he calls an “inspiration” and states that his inclusion in the game is a “phenomenal partnership.” “This is my cousin, Ben, who I consider my brother – and this is incredible. Ben is a 16-year decorated Navy Seal, command member of SEAL TEAM 6, multiple Bronze Stars, and Purple Heart recipient. “He served our great nation and now he serves the veteran community as the inspiration behind the Call of Duty Endowment (C.O.D.E.) Warrior Pack, which incorporates his military service and our Samoan heritage.” The Rock then added that, “every purchase of the pack in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 goes directly towards the placement of U.S. and U.K. veterans in great jobs & careers.” Johnson then finally added that he thinks “this whole thing is very cool and badass,” with many CoD fans flooding the comments section and also sharing their love and admiration for Ben and CoD for recognizing Army Vets in this way. • New Modern Warfare 2 trailer hints at return of iconic killstreak – Dexerto

New Modern Warfare 2 trailer hints at return of iconic killstreak ActivisionModern Warfare 2 is due to arrive very soon and more details are emerging all the time. In the latest MW2 teaser trailer, Infinity Ward have hinted that an iconic killstreak will be making its return to the series. The name Modern Warfare 2 conjures up many memories for long-time CoD players, from fan-favorite weapons to beloved maps that are remembered to this day. It’s no surprise then that hopes are high that MW2 2022 will see many of the most popular features from 2009 make a comeback. Well, a new teaser trailer has suggested that one of the CoD series’ most iconic killstreaks could be set to return. Infinity Ward recently put out a short clip on social media to help promote campaign early access. It didn’t give too much away, but fans were quick to spot the familiar sight of an AC-130 laying waste to a building right at the end of the trailer. The AC-130 first appeared during the Death From Above mission in Call of Duty 4, where players took control of the gunship to offer Captain Price cover from the sky. It then featured as a deadly killstreak in the original MW2’s multiplayer and many later releases, sometimes under the name “Gunship.” Based on this footage, it’s safe to assume that players can look forward to another campaign mission that puts them behind the turret of an AC-130. Its appearance also makes it very likely that it will be available as a killstreak in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer modes too. If the AC-130 does return as a killstreak, its ability to turn a match on its head with rockets and machine gun fire means it will likely require plenty of kills to obtain. In 2009 players had to rack up 11 kills, and typically used it, or a Chopper Gunner, on their way to a Tactical Nuke at 25. More recently, in Modern Warfare 2019, a Gunship required 12 kills, so we’d expect the sequel to follow a similar pattern. Of course, this is all just speculation as Infinity Ward themselves still haven’t confirmed whether or not the AC-130 will feature in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. However, we’ll likely find out more at Call of Duty Next on September 15, and when the beta launches the next day.

  • New Modern Warfare 2 leak reveals four Mastery Camos ahead of launch – Dexerto

New Modern Warfare 2 leak reveals four Mastery Camos ahead of launch Twitter: JGOD / ActivisionA fresh Call of Duty leak has revealed the Mastery Camos for the upcoming Modern Warfare 2, giving players a solid idea of what they’ll be grinding towards when the game drops on October 28. A new Call of Duty game always means a new series of weapon camouflage challenges for players to complete, with elite in-game gun skins often the reward. Completion of one weapon’s camo challenges mean players unlock the Gold camo. Unlocking Gold for every weapon in a weapon class typically gives players Diamond and so on. Now, new leaks claim to reveal four Mastery Camos that will feature in Modern Warfare 2. While not a complete overhaul of past titles’ Camo system, there are some differences that players will have to adjust to. MW2 leak reveal four Mastery Camos The leaks come by way of Metaphor, a Call of Duty YouTuber and insider who has correctly leaked information about the future of the series in the past. Naturally, that does not guarantee the veracity of these leaks, which will remain unconfirmed until Activision or Infinity Ward make them official. According to the leaks, there are four Mastery Camos in Modern Warfare 2. There will be the typical Gold and Platinum (presumably what Diamond has been in past titles). They will be joined by a “Shattered Dark Matter Ultra lookalike” and a “Space camo.” He also offered some early opinions on the camos, claiming that the Space camo stands out as one which has room for improvement. He claimed that there are “Multiple Mastery tabs for additions”, so more could drop post-launch. His comments were corroborated by another reputable leaker, TheGhostofHope, who claimed that the Gold camo is “pure gold” and will not feature multiple colors like some have in the past. Modern Warfare 2019’s gold camo, for example, incorporated black alongside the gold. As for unlocking the camos, TheGhostOfHope shared his thoughts on how it will be done. In his opinion, the “Space Camo” or “Orion” camo most likely requires ranking up every weapon. The news was well received by players who are eager to delve into the challenges and unlock the camos Modern Warfare 2 has to offer.

  • New Modern Warfare 2 glitch lets people create the ultimate troll class – Dexerto

New Modern Warfare 2 glitch lets people create the ultimate troll class Activision BlizzardA Modern Warfare 2 player has used a new glitch in Season Two to create “everyone’s worst nightmare” loadout, featuring 2 riot shields. Riot shields get a lot of flack from Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 players. Despite the fact that they have been previously nerfed, they were one of the least picked “weapons” in the first season of Warzone 2, and the fact that certain lethal equipment guarantees a kill if it makes contact with a shield. Despite all of this, the community likes to dunk on the shield and shield users themselves, exemplified by a post that’s gaining traction on the subreddit dedicated to the game. “I present to you, everyone’s worst nightmare. Double riot shield class, brought to you by the new equip glitch,” reads the title of a post by user Leading-Pop5059. The post itself consists of a single screenshot of a loaoud with Riot Shields in both weapons slots thanks to the Overkill perk and a “equip glitch”. It also features a Flash Grenade, Proximity Mine and the perk Resupply, allowing the user to spam flashbangs and mines to their hearts content. Call of Duty player unveils “everyone’s worst nightmare” loadout The community reacted with a mix of appriciation for the humorous post, adding onto the joke by suggesting further changes to the loadout and the game, and sheer horror at the sight. “I hope it didn’t let you use it in a game… that’s so ridiculously op,” commented one concerned Reddit user. Others were much more lighthearted about the idea. “What’s next, throwable riot shields,” asked another user. Followed up by a response that reads: “Ammunition box with it just handing out free riot shields.” According to WZRanked, the pick rate of the Riot Shield for both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 are at an all time low, as they are now among the 7 least picked weapons in the game, right next to all the rocket launchers. It remains to be seen wether Riot Shields receive changes and ever come back into the meta of the game, but looking at the discussion within the community, the majority of players would not appreciate it.

  • New Modern Warfare 2 attachment tuning feature disabled just days after launch – Dexerto

New Modern Warfare 2 attachment tuning feature disabled just days after launch ActivisionModern Warfare 2’s weapon tuning has been disabled following the discovery of a bug that is crashing the game for players with five attachments on their weapons. This is the second major problem that has caused widespread crashing, with the party system being at fault originally. While that issue was patched up in a day or so, there is no set timeline for when tuning will be reenabled, so people will have to drop in with the base version of whatever attachment is on their gun. For that attachment to be useful though, they will have to unequip and re-equip it so that this new change can take effect. Otherwise, the attachments will presumably operate with blanked-out stats, rendering them completely useless. These investigations and fixes come after a storm of posts across social media in which players were complaining about the game crashing at a near-constant rate. Many PC players even mentioned not being able to finish an entire game without seeing the infamous “Scan and Repair” error that completely shuts down the application. Things seemed to be improving with the implementation of the previous patch, but fans will likely still see some further fixes as the devs are able to dive into player reports. We will provide an update whenever the issue has been resolved and Infinity Ward gives the all-clear for fans to jump back in the customization menu and start tailoring their loadout exactly how they want.

  • New mode added to Modern Warfare Gunfight alpha with battle royale-style twist – Dexerto

New mode added to Modern Warfare Gunfight alpha with battle royale-style twist Infinity WardInfinity Ward has revealed a brand new variant of Gunfight that is live now in the Modern Warfare open alpha, before it comes to a close on August 25. After a number of teases and apparent leaks, the 2v2 Gunfight Alpha for Call Of Duty’s upcoming release, Modern Warfare, finally went live on PlayStation 4 on August 22 It had been scheduled to go live a day later, and run through to August 26, but Infinity Ward flicked the live switch early. Since then, plenty of players – both casual and professional – have got the grips with the alpha and the reaction has been pretty positive. Yet, as they continue to tweak and change things, the developers will be adding a few new pieces of content to test – including a map and a battle royale-like mode. In a post to the ModernWarfare subreddit, Infinity Ward’s communication manager Ashton Williams detailed the state of play for the remaining few days of the alpha – including bug fixes and these new additions. “We aren’t done yet! As we roll into the weekend, we’ll be adding yet another new map and a Gunfight variant into the rotation!” she posted. Called the ‘pickup’ variant, players will spawn into a gunfight game with only a pistol and will need to collect floor loot – including weapons and grenades – from around the compact maps as they build up an arsenal for that specific round of action. Sadly though, for Call of Duty fans without a PlayStation 4, they will have to wait their turn for a chance to get their hands on Gunfight and this new variant as Williams poured cold water on any hopes of another alpha elsewhere. After one fan asked if there would be “any love for everyone else without a PS4,” Williams stated: “PC and Xbox players will get their hands on Gunfight during the beta!” with a smiley face attached. Whether or not this new variant of the 2v2 action sticks around for long, remains to be seen, but it could well be an indication of a possible fully-fledged battle royale mode coming soon. The 2v2 Gunfight alpha runs through Sunday, August 25 meaning that if you haven’t had a chance to get some games in yet, you better hurry.

  • New Mini Royale mode coming to Warzone in Season 5: how it works – Dexerto

New Mini Royale mode coming to Warzone in Season 5: how it works Infinity Ward[jwplayer 1hY0vRdR] Activision and Infinity Ward have officially announced all the details about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 5 and one of the more interesting reveals is a brand new mode called Mini Royale. For weeks now, fans have been hyped over Season 5 of Warzone, with many speculating that the update would bring a slew of changes, additions, and game modes to the battle royale mode. Now, the full details about Season 5 are here and all that speculation was essentially confirmed: the Stadium is opening up, a train will be going around the map, and, of course, it’ll be getting a couple of new playlists. One of the modes announced for August 5 is Mini Royale, which, according to Activision, is a faster, reduced battle royale experience with fewer players compared to the regular default options. Here’s how the official blog post describes Mini Royale: “This condenses the craziest parts of the main Battle Royale mode into faster-paced chunks of chaotic and almost constant combat. Mini Royale lowers the number of Operators sent into Verdansk but quickens the BR experience: Only the first and last five minutes of a normal BR game exist meaning rapid deployment, constant movement, and high-kill strategies are set to yield victories that are both short and sweet.” If this means what we think it means, then, after the first minute, the gas circle and everything else involved with Warzone will function as if the match is in its final stages, which should make for an incredibly fast-paced and intense experience. The exact details about Mini Royale, such as the actual player-count and how the gas will work, have not been revealed, so we’ll have to wait until the update launches to get all the specifics. Regardless, this new mode sounds like one of the more unique playlists Warzone has seen; while previous one have had their own interesting quirks and wrinkles, this seems like it’ll provide an experience that we haven’t really seen before in the Battle Royale. Also, it’s no secret that Warzone matches can last for a while, so having the option to jump into a faster-paced version that’ll have less camping and more aggressive gameplay will definitely appeal to a lot of players, at least at the start. Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 is set to go live on August 4, 2020, at 11 PM PT (August 5 at 2 AM ET).

  • New master weapon camo confirmed for Modern Warfare – Dexerto

New master weapon camo confirmed for Modern Warfare Infinity WardInfinity Ward have confirmed a master camo for Modern Warfare in Season 3, and players won’t have to unlock the prestigious Damascus skins in order to obtain it. Though the devs didn’t give an image alongside the announcement, Co-Design Director of Multiplayer at Infinity Ward, Joe Cecot, confirmed that the camo would “take a long time” for collectors to add the skin to their catalog. Detailing the camo even further, Cecot explained that unlocking it will only require players to have gold on a weapon before they can start making progress for it. But just because you don’t need Damascus doesn’t mean that it’ll be easy to get. The master camo should take a decent amount of time for players to grind in Season 3. As it is, if someone wants the prerequisite Gold camo for a weapon, they first need to unlock every single variant for that gun. That includes the 10 different styles in every category of the weapon, making it a painstaking ordeal. But even that won’t be long enough, seeing as you need gold just to make progress on the master camo since it’ll be the next new tier above it. The Call of Duty community won’t have to wait long for a chance at the new skin seeing as it’ll be dropping somewhere in Season 3. “It should be in the mid season update,” Cecot said, revealing more details on the skin. “It will require gold to be unlocked for the weapon before it will progress. It will take a long time.” The devs have been teasing the new skin for a little while, and it’s a good sign for players anticipating the skin to have a general release window. https://twitter.com/JoeCecot/status/1248831837633302530 It’ll be interesting to see what style the master camo will take form. Skins above the gold tier have either followed a similar aesthetic like the Platinum skins or something wildly different like Demascus. In either case, the master camo will be the next prize Modern Warfare players will spend a ton of games grinding for when it releases sometime in Season 3.

  • New master camo and Shoot the Ship modes coming to Modern Warfare – Dexerto

New master camo and Shoot the Ship modes coming to Modern Warfare Infinity WardCall of Duty developers Infinity Ward have confirmed that Modern Warfare will soon be graced with new Shoot the Ship modes, as well as a new master weapon camouflage, above the existing Damascus. In an April 24 community update, Infinity Ward confirmed a host of bug fixes and adjustments will be coming to Modern Warfare in the game’s next significant update, scheduled for wide release on April 28. However, away from pre-emptive patch notes, the developers also confirmed that a host of new content will be dropping very soon. Shoot the Ship returning to Modern Warfare It has been confirmed that Shoot the Ship, the wildly popular mash-up of Shipment and Shoothouse, will be returning with brand new game modes. These have been confirmed to Cranked and Grind, two Infinity Ward designed game modes that have featured in their last few titles. Shoot the Ship has been in demand ever since its removal. Infinity Ward have implemented similar playlists featuring small maps only – most recently, Cabin Fever – but the calls for Shoot the Ship have not yet gone away. New Modern Warfare Obsidian Camo On a similarly exciting note, Infinity Ward confirmed recent rumors that pointed to a master weapon camouflage beyond Damascus, the camo received for achieving Gold on every single weapon. “There’s also something new to chase,” they said. “Can we interest you in Obsidian camo? Or maybe you want to mix and match blueprint weapon attachments to your heart’s content, even on another blueprint weapon…” They did not confirm how it will be earned, but Joe Cecot, one of Infinity Ward’s most senior MP developers, previously said that a lot of time and effort will need to be invested. Players do not need Damascus camo unlocked in order to try and reach the Obsidian camouflage, meaning the new challenge is open to all Modern Warfare players. With just over a month left of the third season, players can still look forward to Season Four, set to start in early June.

  • New Loadout Drops exploit turns Warzone players invisible for free wins – Dexerto

New Loadout Drops exploit turns Warzone players invisible for free wins Infinity WardCall of Duty players are encountering an exploit with Loadout Drops in Warzone that turns people invisible; not to be confused with a similar bug that lets operatives become invincible. [jwplayer I1TRQiOW] The battle royale has been experiencing its fair share of bugs in the past few weeks, and now a two-pronged consequence stemming from Warzone’s latest change to Loadout Drops is breaking the game. Since players and their teammates can’t die from falling Loadouts anymore, this gives the character model a way to interact with the object as it descends onto the map. This opens the door for a few glitches that are not starting to pop up in the game. While we’ve recently seen bugs that let players go outside of the Warzone map while shooting at players, this exploit gives players more maneuverability inside the live game. I just wanted to play hide n’ seek. pic.twitter.com/TlmU5uZp8H — Shively (@Shivelyy) October 4, 2020 The bug works by simply calling a Loadout Drop directly on top of your character while staying completely still. Once it makes landfall, if your character doesn’t phase out of the Loadout automatically, then your character should appear invisible to other people. The exploit has proven to be reproducible during live games. Infinity Ward have yet to respond to the invisibility bug, though it’s unlikely to stay in the battle royale for long. Until then, people have found that the method can make people invisible for a considerable time, letting them track down opponents without ever seeing them. There are clips surfacing that show people in close-range corridors seemingly alone, looking for loot, just to be shot by someone they never saw. https://twitter.com/timthetatman/status/1324495099816980487 Twitch streamer TimTheTatman was surprised that the bug was able to be easily reproduced and can be seen striding alongside his opponent before executing them. A further test of the bug showed that a teammate with the invisibility bug can still pilot a helicopter and freely switch to the side rail without dropping their disguise. Battle royale players will wait until the developers address the bug and similar exploits. But until then, be on the lookout for any players actively using the glitch for the purposes of ruining Warzone matches.

  • New Leaks Suggest Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Will Feature Free DLC and Zombies Season Pass – Dexerto

New Leaks Suggest Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Will Feature Free DLC and Zombies Season Pass Breaking new leaks suggest that the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will no longer follow the same DLC model fans have become accustomed to, instead shifting to a free model. The rumors were sparked after comments made by studio co-head at Treyarch Dan Bunting, and subsequent leaks of the ‘specialist’ edition of the game, which did not include a season pass. In previous years, Call of Duty titles have released three or four DLC ‘packs’, which include an assortment of multiplayer and zombies maps, plus new weapons, outfits and more, all for the cost of around $10-$15. As an alternative to paying the $15 at the time of DLC release, fans could simply purchase a season pass, giving them all the DLC packs at no extra cost. As Dan Bunting explains however, in an interview with Polygon, it looks like Treyarch will be shifting away from this model. “I can’t tell you at this point in time what [DLC] is going to look like, but I can tell you that we are pushing hard to release content to our fans in a way that’s going to make them happy and a way that we believe is the right thing to do in this stage in our game’s lifespan.” With Black Ops 4’s increased emphasis on team play, forcing players to purchase DLC packs in order to play with their friends like in the past, doesn’t seem conducive this time around. Just announced: EB Exclusive Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Specialist Edition for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, coming 12 October! Preorder now and get access to the Private Beta: https://t.co/Wc7dYkkE2n pic.twitter.com/ZOvPEwAsq6 — EB Games Australia (@EBGamesAus) May 17, 2018 And new leaks, coming from Matthew Harris (who some may remember for numerous leaks including the lack of campaign mode, an Overwatch style game and more), claim a source has told them more. “Our sources claim that this is where we will see the most radical shift in the delivery of content. As opposed to players getting the usual four maps every couple of months they will receive a map, or in some cases two maps, every month.” This is said to desirable because it will avoid the drop in player base which Call of Duty titles see after the release of a DLC map pack. The leaks also claim that there will still be a season pass, but for Zombies only. It would be the same as a traditional season pass, but would only contain Zombies related content. Certainly, the paid DLC model has been becoming more outdated, with games such as Fortnite releasing a lot of content either for free, or allowing players to purchase small individual items as and when they choose. Black Ops 4 also has a new battle royale mode too of course, called ‘Blackout’, and because this will split the player base of multiplayer, Treyarch may be keen not to split it further by having paid multiplayer DLC and season pass. None of the leaks are confirmed of course, and any plans which Treyarch have could change before release.

  • New leak suggests Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer beta may be arriving later than expected – Dexerto

New leak suggests Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer beta may be arriving later than expected ActivisionModern Warfare 2 is set for a late 2022 release date and while initial predictions had the multiplayer beta pegged for August, a new report suggests that it might be a longer wait than fans were hoping. MW2’s release date creeps closer and closer every day and fans are already drooling over the day that they’ll get to go hands-on with the newest entry in the franchise. While some of the hype can be attributed to the game’s inevitable impact on Warzone, the classic arena-shooter multiplayer has been thoroughly hyped up as well. Though fans originally expected their first taste of the latter to arrive in August through the early Beta, it now looks like they may be waiting a few extra weeks. Modern Warfare 2’s beta dates reportedly revealed In a report from RalphsValve, MW2 may not be rolling out the beta until late September, only a month ahead of its October 28 release date. The schedule, if correct, would see Playstation users getting in a week early starting with the Early Access portion before opening up to all PS4/PS5 owners. The #ModernWarfare2 beta date will reportedly be in mid-September (starting around September 16, per the leaks) with PlayStation getting first access. (Info via @RalphsValve) pic.twitter.com/YhHLewAebM — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) July 4, 2022 Here’s the full plan according to the leak: Playstation Early Access: September 15 – 16 – Playstation Open Beta: September 17 – 19 – Crossplay Early Access: September 22– 23 – Crossplay Open Beta: September 24 – 26 – This format tracks with the other games that have been released since Activision and Sony initially struck the deal that guaranteed that the blue brand gets all of the new COD material early. These dates have yet to be confirmed by Activision though, so it’s best not to set any hard plans or take any days off of work until a more concrete schedule gets released in the coming weeks.

New JAK Wardens kit is MW3’s best shotgun and it’s not even close ActivisionThe JAK Wardens kit was added in Modern Warfare 3 Season 3 Reloaded and the new Aftermarket Part is by far the best shotgun to use in multiplayer. Shotguns in Modern Warfare 3 are niche weapons that typically only see use on small maps like Shipment and Das Haus. The increased health in this year’s game pushed Sledgehammer to limit their one-shot potential making them nowhere near as potent as in years gone by. That is until Season 3 Reloaded introduced the JAK Wardens conversion kit for the Mk.2 Lockwood. This new Aftermarket Part transforms the MW2 marksman rifle into a set of Akimbo Model 1887s. These iconic lever-action shotguns were infamously powerful in the original Modern Warfare 2. Now they have returned and are just as strong as ever. They might be even better as the JAK Wardens have an effective two-shot kill range of almost 30 meters. As these are Akimbo, you can fire two shots at once making this an instant kill. To put that into perspective, the original Model 1887s that terrorized multiplayer had an effective range of 15 meters. They were a secondary weapon and easier to use than the JAK Wardens, but in terms of sheer range, the new Aftermarket Part completely outclasses its iconic predecessor. Here’s the best Lockwood Mk2 loadout to use to make the most out of the JAK Wardens kit: Conversion Kit: JAK Wardens – Muzzle: Crown Breaker Choke – Laser: Verdant Hook Cylindrical Laser – There are only five attachment slots available on the Lockwood Mk2 when the JAK Wardens kit is equipped: Conversion Kit, Muzzle, Laser, Optic, and Ammunition. Of these, only the three listed are worth using. All the ammunition attachments make the shotgun less powerful while optics are useless as you can’t ADS with an Akimbo weapon. Although, equipping two huge sniper scopes is sure to get some reactions out of enemies on the receiving end. To unlock the new JAK Wardens Aftermarket Part you’ll need to complete any five weekly challenges from Season 3, Week 5. These can be done across multiplayer, Warzone, and Zombies.

  • New instant death spot on Warzone Season 3 map is sending players to the Gulag – Dexerto

New instant death spot on Warzone Season 3 map is sending players to the Gulag ActivisionWarzone Season 3 is full of fun new content and major changes, but players are quickly becoming frustrated with Train Station as a new glitch is sending them plummeting to their death. With each new season, bugs and glitches are expected, as players find issues that perhaps didn’t pop up in testing. This problem didn’t seem to exist in previous seasons, so it is curious what might have changed with the launch of Season 3, and it’s turning Train Station into a death trap. If you regularly drop here or rotate through it, you might want to reconsider your strategy until it’s fixed. It’s been reported countless times now, but this clip below from ryzen115 showcases just how broken the Train Station roof is, and why you need to be extra cautious when up there. Train Station is a very popular spot, especially in the mid-game gunfights where it offers decent rotation options and strong vantage points to take out unsuspecting enemies. As you can see, though, it’s not quite that easy anymore. Across multiple corners of the Train Station roof, if you try to mantle on the walls to fly off, you’ll somehow phase through the floor and sink to the bottom of the map, straight to your death. From various clips online, it does seem as though there are some spots you can land on and stay alive but, ultimately, unless the storm closes perfectly in your favor, it will result in being sent to the Gulag. It doesn’t look like anybody has found a way to use this glitch to their advantage yet, at least not to get free wins, like they are with this frustrating under-map exploit at Stadium, or another that has been found at Airport. So, if you’re looking to get down from Train Station roof, you’re best off finding a different way.

  • New Information Reveals Possible Black Ops 4 Beta Date and Potential PC Open Beta – Dexerto

New Information Reveals Possible Black Ops 4 Beta Date and Potential PC Open Beta GameStop Germany has claimed that the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta could be available in August and it looks like PC users will also have access. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 may well be the most highly anticipated title from the franchise in recent memory for a number of key reasons. The Black Ops series is already one of the most beloved in Call of Duty’s history and Black Ops 4 looks set to bring together everyone’s favorite aspects from previous versions in a what looks very much like a “boots on the ground” version of Black Ops 3. The real hype seems to stem from the announcement of the all-new Blackout Battle Royale mode which will also come with the game and feature aspects of popular maps, weapons, vehicles, and more from all the past Black Ops games. The community reveal for the game also stated that Black Ops 4 will feature a Private Beta and new information from the GameStop Germany’s website seems to confirm more details about it, including when it will be available. GameStop Germany page says that it anticipates the launch to be in August and also feature a PC Beta:“Anticipated launch of Private Beta is in August. The BETA access codes will be sent shortly before the beta starts. Minimum duration of the beta: 3 days. Internet connection required. Also in August the Open Beta for the PC version takes place! For the PC version, no codes are sent because no code is needed for playing.” This is big news for the PC Call of Duty community if it is true, especially considering the claims that the Beta won’t even require a key for players on that platform. The information would also make sense in terms of the timeline as Black Ops 4 is due to be released on October 12th, two months after the suspected Beta. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available. The guide for Beta participated, according to GameStop Germany, can also be found below. Guide to BETA participation: Order Call of Duty®: Black Ops 4 for PlayStation® 4 or Xbox One to get a BETA passcode. – Visit www.callofduty.com/beta and log in or create a user account to redeem your BETA access code. – After you have used your BETA access code, you will receive more information about your participation in the BETA. –

  • New Information About Black Ops 4’s Specialist Stories Has Leaked – Dexerto

New Information About Black Ops 4’s Specialist Stories Has Leaked New story details regarding Specialists have leaked and they may show how Treyarch plans to tell a narrative in Black Ops 4 without a campaign. Nothing is confirmed regarding these leaks, which may turn out to be completely false. YouTube channel Wew Lads posted a new video breaking the information on the Specialist stories. While it is still unconfirmed, the Wew Lads correctly predicted WW2’s DLC 4. Reddit user MossadKilledXXX also shared the information on the Black Ops 4 subreddit. Warning, potential Black Ops 4 story spoilers are listed below. Specialist Stories Mode The following are small parts of larger missions, these are what we will see but there’s much more to each specialist’s mission. – Ruin’s mission is a grapple range to move around – although this was to be expected anyways. His mission is set up against him, he defies authority. The mission features “Battery”. He also has an over-arcing love interest partner story with a new character. – Firebreak’s cutscene is the same as what he described in his BO3 transmission – trying to kill his father. – Recon’s mission, which is run by Battery, turns out to be a setup by the Specialist Organisation. In this mission, Recon has to make a hard choice – something along the lines of killing a child. He makes this sacrifice and is recruited by the Organisation. – Crash’s mission is about him owing someone money and coming up with a solution to that debt. – Seraph’s cutscene showcases the events she spoke about in her BO3 transmission, labelled 7.1 Elevation, where she shared how she gained her cybernetic arm and annihilator from Goh Xiulan by cutting her arm off. – The specialists are brought together by a woman who seems to be a typical occult character. – In addition to the Specialist Stories mode, Wew Lads also posted info regarding Blackout. The Blackout info claims that the map will have doors that can be opened and closed, as well as AI zombies on portions of the map made up of Zombie areas. The original video from Wew Lads is posted below.

  • Hunt for Adler event in Warzone Season 3: all rewards, Adler skin, more – Dexerto

Hunt for Adler event in Warzone Season 3: all rewards, Adler skin, more ActivisionWith the release of Warzone and Black Ops Cold War Season 3 players are able to participate in a brand-new event called Hunt for Adler, which tasks them with completing challenges in both titles in order to earn rewards. While in-game events that challenge players is nothing new for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, yet another one has started with the launch of Season 3. Now that Season 3 is here, fans can start earning rewards via the brand-new Hunt for Adler event. As previously announced, players are able to get their hands on Calling Cards, weapon charms, Operator skins, and more for both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. Notably, each game has its own set of three challenges and, unlike past events, its own set of rewards. If you only want to complete one game’s challenges, you’ll still technically “complete” the event. Here’s everything there is to know. Hunt for Adler in Black Ops Cold War: challenges & rewards For Black Ops Cold War, players have more gameplay-centric challenges. You’ll need to grind through a few games, specifically on the new Yamantau map, in order to unlock each reward, while also using some specific scorestreaks and perks. Challenge #1 Challenge: In Cold War, play and complete 7 games on Yamantau. – Reward: Head Comrade sticker – Challenge #2 Challenge: In Cold War, kill 25 enemies who have been revealed by your Spy Plane, H.A.R.P., or Field Mic. – Reward: Pager weapon charm – Challenge #3 Challenge: In Cold War, kill 25 enemies on a killstreak while using the Assassin Perk. – Reward: Vengeful Commando Calling Card – Hunt for Adler in Warzone: challenges & rewards New Hunt for Adler event is now live in #Warzone & #BlackOpsColdWar Season 3! Players will need to find pieces of intel in either game to unlock new exclusive rewards 🔎pic.twitter.com/UHdbKOI8iA — Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) April 22, 2021 For Warzone, players will have to complete a different set of challenges. Rather than grinding out the game through raw gameplay, players will have to find intel throughout Verdansk ’84, the new version of map that was added to the game with Season 3. While it might be possible for a dedicated player to grind through all three challenges in one match of Plunder, it’ll more than likely take players a few matches in order to get all three pieces of intel. Challenge #1 Challenge: In Warzone, complete the Intel contract at Farms. – Reward: Missing Calling Card – Challenge #2 Challenge: In Warzone, complete the Intel contract at Summit. – Reward: Rebel Rivas sticker – Challenge #3 Challenge: In Warzone, complete the Intel contract at Factory. – Reward: Close Call weapon charm – Hunt for Adler exclusive skin Completing the Hunt for Adler event will grant you this exclusive ‘Tortured & Rescued’ skin.pic.twitter.com/q3FHcvdN5G — DEXERTO Call of Duty & Esports News (@DexertoIntel) April 22, 2021 Completing either the Warzone or Black Ops Cold War set of challenges will grant you an exclusive Tortured and Rescued Adler skin. It’s worth pointing out that you only need to complete one game’s challenge set in order to unlock the skin, so you won’t have to play a game that you don’t want to in order to get it. The event itself is only running for Season 3’s initial launch week, meaning it’ll end on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, so you’ll want to go ahead and complete the challenges as quickly as possible if you want any or all of the rewards.

  • New ‘Heist’ Multiplayer Mode Will Feature in Weekend Two of Black Ops 4 Private Beta – Details and Gameplay – Dexerto

New ‘Heist’ Multiplayer Mode Will Feature in Weekend Two of Black Ops 4 Private Beta – Details and Gameplay Treyarch has introduced a brand new Multiplayer mode that will feature in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Called ‘Heist,’ the new mode is unique in its aspects and will be playable in Weekend Two of the BO4 Private Beta from August 10-13. The premise of Heist is simple – there are two teams who are both trying to grab the ‘bag of cash’ and get it to an extraction site, where a helicopter will arrive to extract it. The team that stays alive in this process and gets their bag of cash extracted, wins the round. The important things to note for this mode is that there are no attackers or defenders, there is just a neutral objective which is the bag of cash that both teams will have to try and extract. While each player will be afforded just a single life each round, there is the ability for teammates to revive each other once one of them goes down. “So when a player takes fatal damage, they are going to go into a “bleed out” stage, and you’re going to have the chance to revive teammates.” Perhaps the most important aspect of this new game mode is that it is completely “self contained,” which means that all of the weapons, perks, scorestreaks, gear, and other loadout items must be earned within that specific session to be used. These weapons and other items can be unlocked by spending the cash that each team has managed to extract; the more cash extracted the better weapons each player can afford. This means all players, regardless of their Level or weapon progression, will be at even footing when playing Heist.

  • New exploit allows you to get under the Morocco map on Black Ops 4 [UPDATED] – Dexerto

New exploit allows you to get under the Morocco map on Black Ops 4 [UPDATED] A crafty Call of Duty fan has found a way to get underneath the map on multiplayer map, Morocco. The map is set in the North-African country of the same name, and features a muted color palette of tan, brown and maroon. The sandy streets, haphazard stone buildings and wooden structures in the town centre make the map really feel like a trading outpost or small merchants town in the middle of the blazing hot African desert. Originally posted on Reddit, user ‘Macker96’ states that he made the video available to raise awareness about the exploit, in the hope that Treyarch will move quickly to patch it. Fans of the game have stated their disappointment in the appearance of the glitch, with some saying that the glitch “sucks”, while others encouraged players of the popular FPS to not use the appearance of this exploit for nefarious reasons. While there is currently no announcement as to when Treyarch will patch this exploit, the developers of Black Ops 4 have been quick to update the game since its release on Friday, October 12. The game has received two major updates so far, with the developers recently improving the server send rate after complaints from players. We have not attempted to recreate this glitch on any of the other Black Ops 4 maps, and will not be posting an explanation on how to perform it. UPDATE Treyarch have announced that the lastest game settings update, released on October 24, has fixed the map exploit on Morocco.

  • New “DMZ” mode rumored for Call of Duty 2022 inspired by Escape from Tarkov – Dexerto

New “DMZ” mode rumored for Call of Duty 2022 inspired by Escape from Tarkov ActivisionThe next entry in the Call of Duty franchise, rumored to be a sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare, will reportedly feature a mode very similar to Escape From Tarkov. After the mixed response to Black Ops: Cold War and Vanguard, Call of Duty fans could be in for a treat with next year’s entry. With more and more games implementing battle royale modes, Modern Warfare 2 will supposedly be making new strides to differentiate itself and expand upon CoD’s plethora of gameplay options. Previously, leaker Tom Henderson claimed Infinity Ward has a mode “more like Escape From Tarkov than Hazard Zone” planned for Modern Warfare 2. On December 29, he revealed more details. For MWII? Not saying it won’t be buggy, but this will be the first Call of Duty title that has actually had a true 3 year development cycle with no hiccups/change of direction. So there’s a bit of hope haha. Only big hurdle rn is QA, which I hope gets resolved quickly. — Tom Henderson (@_Tom_Henderson_) December 29, 2021 Modern Warfare 2’s “DMZ” mode According to Henderson, fans should be excited about the new game. In response to a concerned fan on Twitter, he explained: “This will be the first Call of Duty title that has actually had a true 3-year development cycle with no hiccups/change of direction.” Plus, the new DMZ mode has reportedly been in development since 2018 and it will technically be 4.5 years in preparation before it releases. I can’t speak for everyone at IW, but those who I’ve spoken to are actually very positive about the game itself (content, direction etc.) – Which I would say is very unusual as usually leaks come from malicious intent for whatever reason. But yeah, on bugs… It’s a QA thing. — Tom Henderson (@_Tom_Henderson_) December 29, 2021 “I can’t speak for everyone at IW, but those who I’ve spoken to are actually very positive about the game itself (content, direction, etc.) – Which I would say is very unusual as usually leaks come from malicious intent for whatever reason,” he added. Furthermore, he claimed that the mode was originally cut from the 2019 game, along with a zombies mode that was just an early concept. It was actually cut from MW 2019, alongside the zombies mode (which was a very early concept). — Tom Henderson (@_Tom_Henderson_) December 29, 2021 How the mode ends up playing out remains to be seen, but hopefully, with so much development time it can end up being a welcome addition to the franchise.

  • New details revealed about “emotional” Modern Warfare campaign features and length – Dexerto

New details revealed about “emotional” Modern Warfare campaign features and length Infinity WardNew information has surfaced about the campaign of the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title, revealing further details about the story’s elements and its approximate overall length. Modern Warfare was officially confirmed to be the 2019 Call of Duty installment on May 31, kick-starting what should be five months of pure hype and anticipation. The May 31 reveal event was based mainly around the game’s campaign, and now new details have revealed further information about what is being called the most controversial single-player story in CoD history. “Emotional” MW campaign to feature ‘collateral damage score’ In an interview with PCGamesN, Studio Art Director Joel Emslie and Campaign Director Jacob Minkoff discussed how emotional the MW campaign is going to be, putting players into the harsh reality of the modern world. The pair revealed that the heavy nature of the plot has already caused multiple playtesters to cry, suggesting that there will be moments in the story that will play heavily on players’ emotions. They also revealed that the campaign will feature a brand new feature called ‘collateral damage score,’ which is a rank that will be given to players based on how many or few innocent civilians they kill during the playthrough. “If you kill no innocents and you evaluate all unknowns correctly then you’ll end up with a rank A. And if you kill more than three you will get a rank F. There are rewards associated with being as accurate with your threat assessment as possible.” Approximate length of MW campaign Speaking about the MW campaign with GameReactorEU, Infinity Ward’s Studio Narrative Director gave players the first concrete hint about how long the campaign will be, revealing that it will be “traditional Call of Duty campaign length.” The campaigns of previous CoD titles developed by Infinity Ward have run around seven to eight hours in length, so players should expect the MW playthrough to take about that long to complete. This estimation is, of course, an approximation and subject to change, so the final exact time likely won’t be officially determined until sooner before the game released on October 25.

  • New Details Released About ‘Cargo Truck’ Vehicle in Black Ops 4 ‘Blackout’ Mode – Dexerto

New Details Released About ‘Cargo Truck’ Vehicle in Black Ops 4 ‘Blackout’ Mode New details have been revealed about the ‘Cargo Truck’ vehicle that will be in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 ‘Blackout’ battle royale mode. The Cargo Truck was revealed to be one of five vehicles in Blackout earlier this week by GameInformer, who have been given early access to the mode. It will be a land based vehicle capable of carrying a maximum of four players – one driver and three passengers. However, the Cargo Truck has several aspects that make it unique from the other vehicles in Blackout. While it is being driven, the passenger players inside are free to move around and shoot at enemies from within the truck. “The cargo truck is particularly cool because it’s a moving platform so you’re not locked into a passenger seat. You can all freely move around the cargo truck.” This means you could have a friend drive you and the rest of your squad around as the three of you stand or lay prone in the back, unleashing fire on whatever foes you come across.” Furthermore, it will have the capability of carrying items in addition to players, making it a good way to get items from one point of the map on the other if players no longer have space in their inventory. However, the truck itself will also have an inventory limit of its own, and items will begin falling out if that limit is surpassed. “I would recommend going to a destination with a lot of stuff, grab whatever you can’t carry, and put it in the back of the cargo truck and take it with you,” In order to maintain a balance within the game and not make vehicles too overpowered, Treyarch has not made it difficult to destroy them. This could especially prove crucial if a Cargo Truck carrying an entire team and their supplies is suddenly blown up with a rocket launcher. Unfortunately, there’s also the danger of putting all your eggs in one basket and then having that basket explode. “We don’t make vehicles complicated to blow up,” Vonderhaar says with a smile. “There is a rocket launcher to find, after all.” Blackout will be released on October 12 as part of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Players can try the mode out early in the Private Beta that will start on September 10 for the PS4 and September 14 for the Xbox One and PC. • New details on Modern Warfare weapons revealed – new reload system, Active Idle and more – Dexerto

New details on Modern Warfare weapons revealed – new reload system, Active Idle and more ActivisionCall of Duty publishers Activision have revealed new details about some of the weapon mechanics players can expect in Modern Warfare. Excitement and anticipation are constantly continuing to build up for Modern Warfare as its October 25 release date gets nearer and nearer. While not much information has been released about the game, especially in regards to the Multiplayer, it looks like the developers’ silence could be broken soon. On July 2, Activision posted some new details about the weapon animation system and mechanics in the upcoming title, coming straight from Mark Grigsby, Animation Director at Infinity Ward. Essentially, the weapons aspect of the game has been made to look realistic, believable, and “just right,” giving players the authentic feel of using what are virtual versions of real military equipment. ‘Rethinking the Reload’ Modern Warfare will feature a totally revamped reload system that will change based on factors such as the type of weapon being used, how much ammunition is left in a clip when reloaded, and what attachments are present on the gun. The most noteworthy take from this was regarding the reloading of weapons when aiming down sight, which will differ from traditional CoD titles. “One other thing we added this year is the ADS [Aiming Down Sight] reload,” Grigsby said. “In the past, if you’re ADS, and you’re shooting and you reload, the weapon would go off to the side, and you’d have to retrain to get to your target. This time if you reload, it stays on the target, so you can stay in the battle.” New animations for Active Idle One aspect of weapons that Infinity Ward have spent some time on is their movements and animations when players aren’t actively engaging in combat. New animations, called Active Idle, have been added to weapons that are in an idle state, such as movement on the gun “to make it look like it’s not bolted to the camera,” or, when looking around, the player’s head will slight lead, with the gun travelling behind. You can check out Activision’s entire weapons post below: CALL OF DUTY®: MODERN WARFARE® INITIAL INTEL: DETAILING ADVANCEMENTS IN ANIMATION AND AUTHENTICITY Weapons Detail: We go deep into the aspects of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s new weapon animation system with Mark Grigsby, Animation Director at Infinity Ward. by David Hodgson on July 02, 2019 One of the most important pieces of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game-creation puzzle; an aspect of the game that bridges the new engine, art, narrative, design, and even the performance capture, is the believable animations the team at Infinity Ward aim to achieve. How the various characters in the game move and interact is of paramount importance to creating both an entertaining and immersive game. Most importantly of all; the look and feel of the weapons need to be “just right”. The Devil is in the Details: Making Badass Weaponry Mark Grigsby, Animation Director at Infinity Ward, takes up the story: The weapon is one of many important pieces to the game, and to the overall experience players will have. We wanted to make sure that the weapons were animating to a degree that would make the players feel like a Tier 1 Operator. Back in the day, Stephen Miller, Audio Director and I were responsible for getting the feeling of the first Modern Warfareweapons right, and to come back and do the same thing again…one of my duties is to make sure that the weapons are that badass.” Authentic-looking military equipment needs to pass meticulous inspection. “The devil’s in the details,” Grigsby agrees: “It may look simple. A lot of people play video games and there are tons of great first-person action games, with weapons that are ubiquitous. They have reload animations, they have different sounds and effects and that’s all great… but to me, there is something special about Call of Duty.” And this time around, the animation team put a whole lot of attention into the all of the details, to ensure the feeling of the weapons is as accurate as possible. This extends to the ‘power’ of each and every weapon too; the feeling you get when you launch a satisfying projectile strike against an enemy who refuses to yield. This includes “interacting with the environment itself, so when you shoot these weapons, you feel the power of the weapon, but you also see the impact of the weapon within the game world, in terms of the sound and physics.” There’s a real difference between the impact a .50 cal round has when it hits a wall, compared to a smaller caliber round. Tag an enemy with a larger caliber round and they’re sent flying back, compared to a smaller round. Use beefier rounds to disintegrate doors more adeptly, too. Also expect to notice the difference the sound assault rifles make when you equip one with or without a muzzle brake, and the reverberations when such a weapon is firing in an enclosed room, or out in the open air. Other animations and effects simply add additional layers of believability to the impact a weapon makes, so you’re not jarred out of the game’s reality by a lack of impact accoutrements: “We needed to do different effects on the weapon’s target, so that the power of these weapons translates into the targets that you shoot. The sparks, the smoke, the effects, all of it has to be representative of the power that you’re releasing from your weapon, so it all comes through with our effects.” Idle Hands Make Impressive Animations Grigsby and the team focused on many aspects of weapon animations to improve the overall appearance; even down to how your character reacts when you’re not actively engaging the enemy in combat: “We developed a new level of model fidelity,” Grigsby tells us: “Back in the day, we saw a lot of idle [animations] that moved more like you were on the deck of a ship, swaying back and forth. You don’t usually stand still in Modern Warfare, but when you do, we wanted to make sure it looked natural; real quick movements using your muscles. We call this the ‘Active Idle’. When you go up the stairs, we added a bit of movement on the weapon to make it look like it’s not bolted to the camera. When you look around, we wanted to do a little bit of leading with the head, and then the gun travels behind. Our previous Call of Dutygames had a bit of that, but we’ve actually deep-dived into it this time around.” Rethinking the Reload Lugging around a variety of ordnance with a range of offensive capabilities also means taking a look at how each of them maneuvers relative to its perceived heft. “Different calibers and different classes have different weights to them, and we’ve assimilated that data. An LMG [light machine gun] here; it’s a little stiffer, not as flimsy as an [assault rifle]. We worked on our reloads. The reload to me is the pinnacle of the weapon; it makes you feel – after you’ve taken down five different dudes in a room – and you reload, you go ‘shit yeah, you’re done!’ We wanted to bring that that flair but taken to a new level where it’s just like one animation.” Everything is as seamless as possible, with reloads dependent on weight, type, and without any stilted or odd transitions between animations. There’s also differences depending on your bullet expenditure too: “If you reload from empty, you would reload the weapon, rack it, and then you’re good to go. A tactical reload is when you maybe shot one or two rounds, and you want to replenish your magazine.” An entirely separate animation was created depending on your ammunition use. “In the past, we would never physically show that transition of one mag to another, but this time around, everything’s physical, so if you have an extended mag, like a drum perhaps, or a long magazine, all of the movements within every reload are visceral, strong, aggressive, it gives another feeling of power and representing the Tier 1 operators that utilize these machines.” Advancements to weapon animation also led to improvements to the gameplay itself too, as Grigsby explains: “One other thing we added this year is the ADS [Aiming Down Sight] reload. In the past, if you’re ADS, and you’re shooting and you reload, the weapon would go off to the side, and you’d have to retrain to get to your target. This time if you reload, it stays on the target, so you can stay in the battle.” Welcome to the Gun Show The animation team spent months crafting, learning, and perfecting every single weapon movement in the game: “We used a lot of reference with our Navy SEALs advisors; how would they actually reload these weapons?” The answers they gave lead the team to the results you see in the game itself. “We also sent the team out to firing ranges to shoot these weapons so they could actually get the feeling and the power of them. The first time I shot any of these weapons was on Call of Duty® 4: Modern Warfare®. I’m a good animator, but I didn’t think that the power and visceral nature came through until I shot. We educated all the animators this time around and I actually think it comes through really well.” Another thing we wanted to do was use our scopes more realistically and showcase them in the environment. The detail and slight magnification you can see through a scope “is another hint of detail, we give a little bit of magnification to the scopes when weapon is at the hip.” As for sniper rifles? “We also have the higher scopes use the technical advancements created by the tech team headed by Principal Rendering Engineer Michel Drobot.” But as Mark Grigsby quickly points out, there is something missing here. “All of this tech, this lighting, art, this animation…” well, it wouldn’t be worth the time and effort to animate to new levels of believability if each weapon didn’t have a distinct voice.

  • Denial Esports allegedly chargeback payments to former players, owner responds [UPDATED] – Dexerto

Denial Esports allegedly chargeback payments to former players, owner responds [UPDATED] @JProphUpdate, 12:20 PM EST, May 28: Denial co-owner Zach Smith claims that these payments were flagged as ‘suspicious activities’ by his credit card company, causing the transactions to be disputed. Smith sent Dexerto a screenshot appearing to show that money is already being repaid to all affected players, including the Gears of War team. “This affected multiple people,” Smith explained. My [credit card] company flagged a few suspicious activities. They were already notified and are fixing the problem. This affected GoW as well and was fixed yesterday.” The transactions in the screenshot were sent on May 27 and, according to Smith, cover the amount which was disputed from the previous payments. Further confirmation about the repayment from some of the affected players was also received. 500Original article below… A former Call of Duty player for Denial Esports, Jason ‘Prophet’ Nicoletti, has publicly shared a PayPal dispute appearing to show the organization attempting to charge back a goodwill payment they made to him in February 2019. Denial Esports, under previous ownership and management, fell foul of failing to pay players, and eventually disbanded, only to return under new management in early 2019. As a show of goodwill, the organization reached out to former players affected by the issues of previous ownership, and, as shown by Prophet’s February 12 post, sent monies to these players. Zach Smith, who recently stepped down from the day-to-day running of the Denial organization, was responsible for sending these payments, thanked personally by Prophet. However, on May 28, 2019, Prophet replied to his original post, showing evidence that Smith had disputed the payment, stating that ‘the purchase was not authorized.’ Gears of War players FraNChiS and Icy have also alluded to payments being charged back from a “previous org”. Both players now play for Team Reciprocity, and the team’s community manager has confirmed that Denial is the “previous org” in question. At this point, I can only laugh. There is a previous org trying to steal money from our team. They are going back and disputing old transactions. :joyful: — Jose Leonardo Mavo (@FraNChlS) May 27, 2019 I actually don’t believe it lmao. One of my previous orgs is literally trying to steal from me and my team :joyful: ??? — (@icy) May 27, 2019 allegations of failing to pay their previous all-French Call of Duty roster, as well as not yet paying for the CWL spot acquired from Overtime eSports. Zach Smith is also the CEO of esports betting site MoneyMatches.

  • New Deathmatch Domination game mode coming to Modern Warfare – Dexerto

New Deathmatch Domination game mode coming to Modern Warfare Infinity WardInfinity Ward is set to drop their latest playlist update for Modern Warfare and will be adding an all-new game mode that combines Team Deathmatch and Domination into one, called Deathmatch Domination. Ever since the newest installment to the Call of Duty franchise released back on October 24, Infinity Ward have introduced plenty of new content. There have been skins, new weapons, maps, and regular game mode changes to give fans a little bit of everything. Now, though, they are preparing to shake things up with some more changes to the current multiplayer playlist with a never before seen mode that combines two of the game’s biggest fan-favorite modes into one. It is called Deathmatch Domination and if it sounds pretty simple to figure out, well, that’s because it is. As the name gives away, the new mode is a blend of Team Deathmatch with Domination – meaning that you have to both play the objective and try not to cost your team a tonne of deaths. “Capture the flags and take down enemies in your path and both will push your team to victory on the scoreboard,” said Infinity Ward, describing the mode in their weekly blog update. As for the other changes to multiplayer, this new update will see fans given the opportunity to, once again, juke it out in 24/7 Shipment – an easy way to quickly level up given the fast and close-quarters nature of the map. There will also be a change to Gunfight, with Infinity Ward bringing out Customized Gunfight – doing away with the random nature of the 2v2 mode and letting players create a loadout before doing battle. As ever, these changes to the multiplayer playlist will take their places inside the online portion of Modern Warfare so simply select them and away you go. Just be sure to take the right weapons with you – especially in Gunfight.

  • New Days of Summer Event in Call of Duty: WWII – Toy Soldiers, Dog-Fighting Mode, Sandbox Map and More – Dexerto

New Days of Summer Event in Call of Duty: WWII – Toy Soldiers, Dog-Fighting Mode, Sandbox Map and More A new community event has gone live in CoD: WWII with the latest update, called ‘Days of Summer’, adding some major new features – including an aerial dog-fighting mode. Despite the hype train for Black Ops 4 already well on its way, Sledgehammer are still piling in new content and updates to WWII, keeping the game fresh throughout its cycle. The new sandbox map will be available for PS4 players first – for free – and you won’t be playing with your normal characters. Everything We Learned About Blackout Battle Royale in Black Ops 4 From the Reveal TrailerIn this map, you get miniaturized, plasticized, and turned into a tiny toy soldier before being plopped down into a beachside sandbox. That’s where you’ll navigate the massive sandcastles and beach toys and do battle in an environment totally unlike anything else in Call of Duty: WWII. Those who played the CoD: WWII campaign will also remember there was a dog fighting mission, where you had control of a fighter plane and battled out in the skies. For the first time, this will be making an appearance as a multiplayer mode in CoD: WWII: full patch notes here.“A lot of people in the studio and in the community were really excited about that mode, and it became a pet project for us. We started to think… ‘What if we could fly over the mountains?’ So we did that, and then it became ‘What if we could fly into the mountains!?’ and we did that too.” The community even lasts for the entire month, ending on August 28 – so plenty of time to dig in once the Black Ops 4 beta is over with too. • New data confirms Call of Duty fans are the most toxic in all of gaming – Dexerto

New data confirms Call of Duty fans are the most toxic in all of gaming Activision / PixabayA new study looked into just how positive, or negative, different games’ communities are. Analyzing social media data, the findings revealed that Call of Duty fans are the most toxic around. There are a lot of Call of Duty titles out there. From Warzone, Vanguard, and CoD Mobile players to the remaining Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare fans, there is no shortage of people devoted to the FPS franchise. As it turns out, that player base isn’t just committed to clicking heads and editing loadouts. They also appear to be the most dedicated, across all gaming communities, to… toxicity. A new study from Wordtips dove into the social media data across thousands of tweets and hundreds of followers, for a number of gaming and entertainment communities. This led to a clear conclusion: CoD fans are more negative than any other game’s. Call of Duty fans are the most toxic in gaming world While it’s unclear precisely which games were considered for this study, the methodology notes that they analyzed “a long list of fanbases.” That work resulted in Call of Duty’s community being named the most negative video game fanbase online. With 184 negative words per 1,000 words tweeted, CoD’s fans are apparently about 11.5% more toxic than the second-most negative gaming group (Mortal Kombat). This data might not be too surprising, as the franchise’s death comms and trash talk are well-documented. Challenging people to a 1v1, even over random online disputes, is a popular element of CoD culture. Warzone bugs have even accidentally punished players for their toxicity in the past. What may be surprising, though, is that CoD’s fanbase wasn’t the most toxic group studied. According to the research, Rihanna’s fans take the top spot – edging out the gamers ever-so-slightly with 186 negative words per 1,000.

  • New Commando Division and Weapon Available in Call of Duty: World War II – Dexerto

New Commando Division and Weapon Available in Call of Duty: World War II With the release of the V.1.20 patch, Sledgehammer Games have added a brand new Division to Call of Duty: World War II, named Commando. Commando follows a similar layout to the rest of the available Divisions, with four tiers of progression, while prestiging Commando rewards players with the new AS-44 rifle. Tier 1 of Commando Progression is the Paratrooper Insert, which allows players to parachute into the map after death, via a “designated drop site”. Players will be able to fire their weapon and use lethal and tactical grenades while descending, but it may leave them open to attacks from below. When Tier 2 is unlocked, players using the Commando division will regenerate health quicker than other Divisions, while kills immediately trigger the healing process. This means there is no waiting for healing to begin when you take down an enemy, it automatically starts the moment you get the kill. The reward for completing all four tiers of progression in the Commando Division is the AS-44, a brand new automatic rifle. This gun features a high amount of damage, but that comes at the price of some heavy recoil. The Commando Division is available right now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 through the new V.1.20 patch, with the patch expected to release to PC players on August 29.

  • New CoDBurner account surfaces with fresh transfer allegations involving OpTic, 100T and Rise – Dexerto

New CoDBurner account surfaces with fresh transfer allegations involving OpTic, 100T and Rise The competitive Call of Duty community has welcomed a second CoD Burner account to the fray after new posts started to appear on Reddit. The original Reddit account known as CoDBurner2018mania has been dropping some serious intel since it first started posting in April. The mystery about who the account belongs to remains firmly under wraps, even if a few professional players have hinted that they know the culprit, it has yet to become public knowledge. If that wasn’t confusing enough that there’s a renegade amongst our ranks, a second username has started to post equally as interesting rumors, with the original CoD Burner account confirming the new guy has a lot of correct info. Interestingly the new CoD Burner, who goes by the username, TheRealCoDBurner2018, claims that the original is a pro player, but due to having significant clout, no one is willing to spill the beans. CoD Burner v2 has also claimed that OpTic Gaming’s Damon ‘Karma’ Barlow is set to pen a new deal with the Texas based organization that will keep him with the team as they head into Black Ops 4. As per previous reports, it’s expected that Thomas ‘TJHaly’ Haly and Brendan ‘Dashy’ Otell will complete the lineup alongside Seth ‘Scump’ Abner and Ian ‘Crimsix’ Porter. Other rumors include Slasher deciding between 100Thieves, Rise and an offer from a mystery rich guy, while JKap could be on his way to 100T also. As always, it’s worth taking these rumors with a pinch of salt as they’re not official and are subject to change, but for now, it looks like we have double the trouble when it comes to accounts willing to leak information. Watch our video below on the original CoD Burner and his activity that made him famous:

  • New CoD: Warzone ‘High Action’ LTM details leaked – Dexerto

New CoD: Warzone ‘High Action’ LTM details leaked Infinity WardInfinity Ward may be on the brink of adding a brand new limited time mode (LTM) to Call of Duty: Warzone, after data miners found some clues in the Modern Warfare game files. Warzone has quickly become one of the most popular battle royale games around, since releasing on March 10, with a whole host of top streamers on Twitch and Mixer playing it on a daily basis for their audiences. The mode is slightly different to other BR titles in the fact that it has Buy Stations, where players use in-game currency to purchase different things to set them up each time they jump in, and a new leaked mode could be about to shake things up already – if proven to be accurate. The leak comes just after Infinity Ward rolled out a new update in Modern Warfare, adding a Solos mode to Warzone among other things – you can read the full patch notes here – with data miners searching through the code to see if they can reveal any unannounced details ahead of time. Well, one leaker appears to have hit the jackpot on March 17, after discovering “High Action BR” in the data files, as well as a particularly interesting line that may reveal some details about what it entails. According to ModernWarzone on Twitter, it states: “Battle Royale with more money, more legendary crates, and more Killstreak drops,” which could foreshadow the arrival of a limited-time mode featuring an amped-up level of action. #HighAction, an upcoming #CallOfDutywarzone playlist. As many players who play shooter games will know already, the success of Fortnite Battle Royale, Apex Legends and other battle royale titles is often boosted by the arrival of in-game events. For all we know, this leaked playlist could be part of a much larger event at play in Warzone, so keep your eyes peeled on Dexerto’s Call of Duty page and we’ll keep you up to date with all of the latest.

  • New CoD Mobile map and modes finally coming in Season 6 update – Dexerto

New CoD Mobile map and modes finally coming in Season 6 update ActivisionActivision has revealed what is coming in the next big CoD Mobile update – with the addition of a long-awaited map and potentially some new game modes. As CoD Mobile takes some of the best weapons, maps, and modes from Call of Duty’s of the past, the developers aren’t handcuffed to one particular setting or storyline. That’s why it has maps like Crash and Standoff in the same map pool, even though they’re from CoD 4 and Black Ops 2. With fans gearing up for the next big update, speculating about what is coming next, the developers have finally revealed what they can look forward to – including the addition of a map they’ve been teasing for some time. Rust confirmed for CoD Mobile On April 25, in their newest community update, Activision revealed that Rust would finally be added to CoD Mobile once the all-new update goes live. The iconic Modern Warfare map had been teased on April 12 – with it not taking all that long for fans to figure out the cryptic clues. However, it won’t be the original Modern Warfare 2 version of Rust that fans had been hoping for. Instead, it will be the updated map that is currently being used in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. https://twitter.com/PlayCODMobile/status/1253851430806405120 Rust was being tested in CoD Mobile’s test server along with Kill Confirmed, Capture The Flag, and a one-on-one map called Saloon. These should also make it into the next update. Aside from that, there are changes to way bundles, crates, and lucky draws work. These will now all be packaged together. However, they will offer different content and what had been released in them previously, may no longer be included. Though they haven’t yet confirmed the date for the new update, the in-game battle pass ends on Friday, May 1 – so it should be released then. If anything changes, however, make sure that you keep eyes on Dexerto for all the latest news and updates.

  • Modern Warfare Battle Royale teased with new “Classified” mode & trailer – Dexerto

Modern Warfare Battle Royale teased with new “Classified” mode & trailer Infinity WardThe launch of Modern Warfare Season 2 has added a ton of new content into the 2019 Call of Duty title, while also appearing to tease an upcoming battle royale mode that had been previously leaked. Since the release of Modern Warfare back in October, a slew of leaks, speculation, and rumors appeared to hint that Infinity Ward would eventually add a battle royale mode at some point in the game’s life cycle. On February 11, following the release of the massive v1.14 update that launched Season 2, a few things were added to the game that further hinted at a forthcoming BR mode. The main menu, which previously featured four options – campaign, multiplayer, Spec-Ops, and store – now shows a fifth category, which is labeled “Classified” and is currently inaccessible. Read More: Modern Warfare Season 2 update patch notes – While that on its own doesn’t mean anything in terms of BR, there was also an in-game trailer added that actually does seem to tease the mode. 🚨 BREAKING: Possible Battle Royale teaser trailer in #ModernWarfare! pic.twitter.com/IEsYCjjHHR — Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) February 11, 2020 First look at possible Modern Warfare Battle Royale In the first half of the scene, the camera zooms out to reveal a shattered airplane in what seems to be the iconic Terminal map from Modern Warfare 2. However, in this video, the airport is actually part of a larger-scale area, which could very well be our first official look at the BR map. Then the real teaser kicks in, showing a massive military-style airplane soaring above the area, and out of it, players drop down and deploy their own personal parachutes. The whole thing has a very BR-esque feel to it; it’s hard to think of anything else that this trailer could be, especially since the battle royale has been the topic of many leaks and discussions. What we know about Modern Warfare Battle Royale If the footage above does turn out to be the Modern Warfare BR map, it wouldn’t be the first time we’ve been given a glimpse of it. Back in November, a CoD leaker released a massive post on Reddit that he claimed were details about the unreleased mode, which included an overhead view of the possible map. There’s no denying that what was shown in the cinematic does resemble this leaked image – at least when it comes to the overall color scheme and tone of the area. The massive leak also included details about how the BR would work, including the respawn feature, all of the locations, the different kinds of loot and armor, perks, killstreaks and more. Since then, players have also found many of the leaked locations in Modern Warfare’s co-op Spec-Ops mode, which sparked further theories that those same points of interest would be added to the BR map. Terminal was leaked as one of the classic CoD maps that could be added as a possible location, and the fact that the cinematic above included the iconic airport setting further suggests that the data-mined information could be correct. While the evidence that a battle royale mode is coming to Modern Warfare continues to pile up, nothing should be considered official until Infinity Ward and/or Activision make a formal announcement. Until then, we’ll continue to bring you the latest details and leaks about the BR as more information becomes available.

  • In-game images of new classic DLC weapons leaked in Modern Warfare – Dexerto

In-game images of new classic DLC weapons leaked in Modern Warfare It appears that two new weapons could be coming soon to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare after having been discovered in the latest back-end game files. Prior to Modern Warfare launching on October 25, developers Infinity Ward confirmed that new weapons would be periodically added as part the robust post-launch content they planned on releasing throughout the game’s life cycle. There’s already been one wave of new content released on November 8, but that set did not include any new weapons and only added Hardpoint as well as two new multiplayer maps to the game. On November 12, following the v1.08 update that went live overnight, new game files were added to the back-end that contained references to two weapons – The Vector SMG and Crossbow. Read More: Modern Warfare v1.08 update patch notes – These files were discovered and leaked by dataminer @MrJaRnii, who also managed to procure images of the two guns in-game on the Hackney Yard multiplayer map. The Vector is one of the more popular SMGs that has been featured in several Call of Duty titles in the past. It’s known for having a high fire rate and decent recoil control, making it the gun of choice for many run-and-gun-style players. It made its debut in Modern Warfare 2, and was introduced in Black Ops 2 as the Vector K10. However, most players will remember it from Ghosts, in which it was called Vector CRB, as it was arguably the most powerful and versatile weapon available in multiplayer and was certainly a fixture in the competitive meta. As for the Crossbow, it too has been seen in numerous past CoD games, although never being a weapon that a lot of players took seriously enough to use regularly. A lot of versions for the Crossbow in previous titles have included some sort of explosive tips in order to make the gun more potent. In some cases it’s worked, as seen in the incredibly overpowered Reaver C86 DLC weapon from Black Ops 4. In fact, this isn’t the first time that the Crossbow has been seen in Modern Warfare, as a poster image of it was recently found on the wall of one of the multiplayer maps. At this point, it’s not yet clear when these two weapons will be added to the game. Although the fact that they’ve already been found in the game files and that there are images of them in-game likely means that they’ll be the next in line for when more post-launch content gets released. That said, it must be noted that nothing is official until Infinity Ward themselves announce these guns, so until then everyone will be in wait-and-see mode.

  • New CDL skins make players literally invisible in Modern Warfare – Dexerto

New CDL skins make players literally invisible in Modern Warfare Activision BlizzardModern Warfare players donning the Operator skins of their favorite Call of Duty League teams are turning literally invisible as they collide with other objects on the map. When the franchises of the inaugural Call of Duty League approved the in-game items bundles that would appear in Modern Warfare, they likely did so under the belief that those items would be seen. Following in the footsteps of esports team jerseys in FIFA Ultimate Team and team flags in Rocket League, among others, the introduction of CDL-themed items into the game allows the competitive CoD scene to earn more revenue and gain more fans simultaneously. Two of those items are Operator skins, allowing players to don their in-game characters with an outfit featuring a CDL team’s official branding. However, some of these skins are causing players to go completely invisible, which is obviously a huge tactical advantage. Clips have surfaced online showing players wearing these CDL outfits vanish from the screen as they collide with walls and other objects. ‘cKorrupt’ shared footage of his teammate wearing a Dallas Empire skin on Hackney Yard, calling it a “cloak of invisibility” because he went invisible as he brushed up against the wall. Dallas Empire alternate outfit (cloak of invisibility)https://t.co/fVgCJcZ1Q0 pic.twitter.com/NIPEiveqau — Korrupt (@cKorrupt) January 24, 2020 But evidently, the issue is not limited to just Empire skins. Another Twitter user posted a clip of the oddity showing that anyone wearing a team skin while using the Bale operator on the Allegiance side can disappear into walls. Invisibility is not limited to Empire, anyone who uses a team outfit on the BALE operator goes invisibile pic.twitter.com/bAVYyiNINp — aqua 🦧 (@aquativityy) January 24, 2020 Another Twitter user shared more footage of the magic trick and claimed that it’s not limited just to Empire, and that anyone wearing a team skin while using the Bale operator on the Allegiance side can disappear into the wall. This almost perfectly mirrors a bug that was affecting players in CSGO that sprung up just a day earlier. In addition, this isn’t even the first issue about visibility in Modern Warfare to come up this month. The way these CDL in-game items were introduced was strange as well, as a blog post promoting them was sent out while players hyped up the items on social media, only for the post to mysteriously disappear. The items were then released on the opening day of the league’s Launch Weekend. You can follow all of the competitive Call of Duty action by visiting our CDL Launch Weekend hub, which includes the stream, schedule, results and more.

  • New CDL Champs cosmetics leaked for Modern Warfare & Warzone – Dexerto

New CDL Champs cosmetics leaked for Modern Warfare & Warzone Call of Duty League / Activision[jwplayer EKw2S6e2]A new bundle of Modern Warfare cosmetics celebrating the Call of Duty League Championship appear to have been leaked. The Call of Duty League is currently in its inaugural season, and in August the Call of Duty Championship — the biggest event on the CoD esports calendar — will crown a new team of world champions, with over $4 million on the line. It looks like Activision are looking to start building the hype for the event in the lead-up to it, with adverts for CDL Championship Weekend appearing in the newly-opened Verdansk Stadium, and now a new leak suggests there could be more on the way. After being added to Tracker Network’s Call of Duty tracker, players have found that 12 new calling cards will be added to Modern Warfare and Warzone for players to rep and show their support for the league. The new calling cards are all similar in design, emblazoned with ‘Call of Duty League Championship Weekend 2020’ text, but each have another unique logo on the left side of the card. As there are 12 new calling cards on the way, all 12 CDL teams will have their own card, with fans able to show support to their favorite players or franchises by donning their team logo in-game. While CDL packs are already available in-game, giving players a more unique way to truly show support to their favorite teams, these calling cards should help build up hype for the upcoming event and — hopefully — spur new viewers to tune in. It’s unclear when these calling cards are intended to be added to the game, but it’s safe to assume it should be soon, with CDL Playoffs kicking off on August 19 and Champs weekend finishing on August 30. It’s also unclear how fans will be able to get a hold of these — it could be that they’ll be bundled together in a ‘Champs Weekend’ pack, or that players get the calling card that matches the CDL team packs they’ve bought (if they have one at all). Some are also theorizing that they could be viewer rewards given that the CDL has confirmed that new drops will be available around Champs through watching on their website.

  • New Call of Duty: WWII Update May Have Silently Buffed Assault Rifle That No One Asked For – Dexerto

New Call of Duty: WWII Update May Have Silently Buffed Assault Rifle That No One Asked For A new update went live in Call of Duty: WWII on May 25th, the same day as Division B of the CWL Pro League began, and some are speculating that major changes to weapons have been made. Throughout the life cycle of CoD: WWII since its release on November 3rd, there has been countless updates to weapons, buffing and nerfing performance in attempts to improve the balance of the game. Some of the updates have been met with mixed responses, often splitting opinion between casual and competitive players, particularly when it comes to popular weapons in the assault rifle, sniper and SMG categories. More: Sledgehammer Announce Multiplayer x Zombies Crossover ‘Attack of the Undead’ Community Event – Schedule, Game Modes, New Weapons, and Much More! – For competitive play, some of the changes have resulted in ‘gentlemen’s agreements’ – where players agree between themselves not to use a weapon – and some even in blanket bans, such as the M1 Garand semi-automatic rifle. As a result of these buffs and nerfs, the BAR assault rifle had recently overtaken the FG-42 as the dominant AR of choice amongst competitive players, but some had even argued that it was too strong still. However, it had been accepted and players at the professional level have been using the BAR frequently throughout Division A – and now it looks like it may have in fact been given a buff. The full patch notes are unreleased at the time of writing, but according to numerous players, the fire rate of the weapon appears to have been increased, and perhaps even a reduction in recoil. Update – The full patch notes have now been released, and make no mention of a change to either the audio file for the weapon or any statistical adjustments, so the difference which these players have reported is unexplained. With Division B of the CWL Pro League now live, we’re sure there will be more information about the weapon once these players have given it a shot in an official match. If it has in fact been buffed, there will almost certainly be a call to have the gun banned or at the least a gentleman’s agreement applied, given it was already deemed strong before the rumored buff.

By giving fans a hint at what’s to come, we now know some of the characters, missions, and locations you’ll take on. Here’s a look at the new campaign trailer and everything you need to know. CoD: Vanguard Campaign trailer CoD: Vanguard reveals Campaign characters From the trailer, we can see tons of different people that are part of Task Force One and put on display throughout the World War II theme. Thanks to a post from Call of Duty, we have an in-depth look at each of the characters and learn some of Task Force One’s history. Sergeant Arthur Kingsley The leader and “Heart of Task Force One” Arthur Kingsley seems to be the main character throughout the campaign. He studied at Oxford and carries a great mind on his shoulders which he uses to complete missions. Kingsley is a great leader looking to fight against the Nazis. Lieutenant Polina Petrova An old friend from Warzone, Polina Petrova, “the infamous Lady Nightingale,” is the sharpshooter of the group. Although she isn’t a soldier by choice, that doesn’t mean she isn’t one of the deadliest characters Call of Duty has ever seen. Private Lucas Riggs The man who handles the explosives, Lucas Riggs, loves to make things go boom. When he’s not on the battlefield Riggs enjoys collecting wool from his sheep farm back in Australia. He’s here to represent Australians and what they can do. Lieutenant 1st Class Wade Jackson Every great unit needs a pilot and that’s where Wade Jackson fits in. The former dive bomber believes he can solve any issues that arise. However, you’ll want to listen to Jackson as he will not hesitate to leave you in the dust if you aren’t competent. Sergeant Richard Webb Richard Webb is the next man up in Task Force One. The Sergeant is Kingsley’s right-hand man and friend. Webb is determined to make anything work even if there’s no way it can, but he always has a backup plan just in case. SS Oberst-Gruppenführer Hermann Wenzel Freisinger The main villain is Oberst-Gruppenführer Hermann Wenzel Freisinger. He’s the chief interrogator of the SS and the secret architect of the mysterious Project Phoenix. Freisinger is ruthless, charismatic, and willing to sacrificing anything to make sure that Project Phoenix is a success. These were all the details Activision gave for the Vanguard Campaign, but they said to check back in the upcoming weeks for more intel on the game and Zombies. CoD: Vanguard reveals Campaign mission Throughout the trailer, we can see various locations that you’ll be taking on while completing the campaign. Some of the most noticeable ones feature Kinglsey drowning in the ocean (which is rumored to be a D-Day mission). The scene with the paratrooper drowning is the Kingsley D-Day mission that I described a couple of months ago with the burning windmill etc. 🙂 — Tom Henderson (@_Tom_Henderson_) October 11, 2021 We can also see a jungle-like location that looks similar to the Warzone map coming later this year. There appears to be another mission where the characters are captured by Freisinger and must fight their way back. It is unclear which character you’ll be playing as but one thing is certain, you’re going to be working to stop Project Phoenix from taking off. The Campaign is loaded with tons of Nazi-infested battlegrounds, deserts, and more.

New Call of Duty League format and Warzone tournament announced ActivisionThe Call of Duty League has announced some significant changes to the format of the remaining events in the 2020 season, as well as a new Warzone tournament, and in-game rewards for watching matches. Like almost all esports events, the inaugural season of the CDL has suffered some setbacks due to the ongoing global crisis. Home Series events have been forced to move online, which throws up its own problems for server connections and broadcasting the matches. After three online tournaments, the CDL has announced some big changes for future events. Perhaps most importantly is the fact that all twelve league teams will now compete at the Call of Duty League Championship. CDL Championship changes The Call of Duty League Championship, the final event of the season, will now feature all 12 teams, rather than only the top eight. League standings will determine each team’s starting position at this final event in August. 1st and 2nd placed teams in the CDL Standings will automatically skip the first two rounds of the event’s Winner’s Bracket, and the event will be played in a double-elimination format. CDL Warzone Weekends Warzone, the battle royale mode in Modern Warfare, is one of the most popular games in the world currently, and the CDL will now be incorporating it into their competitive tournaments. Read more: How to open Warzone’s vaults – Starting with CDL Seattle (May 22-24), all twelve teams will be dropping into a 48-player Quads match of Warzone. The winning team will even net themselves a cool $10,000. The tournament will be live-to-tape and shown before the final matches start at CDL Seattle on Sunday, May 24. In-game rewards for watching CDL Activision are finally giving viewers what they’ve been longing for on the YouTube-exclusive broadcasts: in-game rewards. For watching CDL action, Modern Warfare players will be able to earn exclusive CDL team-themed Emblems, Sprays, Animated Calling Cards and more. This has been a highly requested feature from the community for a long time, and will hopefully encourage more casual fans to check out the streams, too. But, it’s not been announced when exactly this will be starting, or how exactly players will earn the rewards. More details should be coming soon. CDL Bracket Challenge For an added bit of fun while watching the tournament, the new bracket challenge will allow you to predict the winners of each match-up over the weekend. Keep an eye on the official Call of Duty League website for when the draft goes live! Next up is CDL Seattle. You can find the full schedule and streams for the event here.

  • New Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War easter egg solved: what it means – Dexerto

New Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War easter egg solved: what it means Activision[jwplayer qiSnM8TU] The mysterious Call of Duty 2020 crates sent to various content creators have finally been opened, revealing a trail of easter eggs that connect to the iconic Black Ops map Summit, Warzone, Zombies, and the game’s potential release date. Update: CoD 2020 Easter Egg Solved! After several hours of cracking codes and connecting dots, popular Call of Duty content creator NoahJ456 and his team figured out the endgame to the crate easter egg: a website where the next stage of the CoD 2020 teaser chain will be held. The website (https://pawntakespawn.com/tv) features an old tube television set, a vintage-looking phone, and several things in the background, which when touched up with some contrast changes, are revealed to include a poster of the current Warzone map. The page also features an antique alarm clock, which shows the date of August 14. According to NoahJ, this is not for the full reveal and instead just the date for when the next stage of the teasers will appear. I just heard directly from Activision. What we solved today was just the FIRST step of the Call of Duty 2020 reveal. What comes out on Friday at 12 EST is just the next part. We go again. pic.twitter.com/KBvu2sPoaR — NoahJ (@NoahJ456) August 10, 2020 Original Story: There was a lot of anticipation from the Call of Duty player-base on August 10, as streamers and YouTubers were finally allowed to unlock the cryptic packages they’d recently received from Activision. Revealed to be inside were slide projectors, different ones from different eras, such as the old-school TDC Headline 303 model that was sent to news outlet charlieINTEL. 🚨 The mysterious crates the Call of Duty sent are now being opened! It contains a 1950s slide projector called TDC Headliner 303 model. (more pics in thread below) pic.twitter.com/zWEBTRaNZE — Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) August 10, 2020 In addition, the boxes also contained slides of various images, some of actual places and cities in the world, while others contained a seemingly random collection of letters. The next four slides! pic.twitter.com/EyI7WDP9nY — Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) August 10, 2020 Connection to Summit There were several of those map image slides included in all of the crates that had been shipped out, five to be exact, pointing to Paris, Moscow, New York, London, and Tokyo. What’s more: the little numbers on those maps looked very similar to the same ones used to distinguish the different regions on Summit, the well-known locale that was first introduced in the first Black Ops game. Also, there were overhead shots of an unmarked area that also matched up perfectly with the map’s shape. Hmmm…as @BenMcCarthy935 pointed out. the numbers on our maps are almost identical looking as to how the numbers at different locations in Summit look….. pic.twitter.com/22rPDTgnMb — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) August 10, 2020 In fact, they looked so similar that it prompted some keen-eyed fans to look more closely at Summit in Black Ops 4, only to realize that Treyarch had quietly pushed through a small update that had tweaked the map, adding in live clocks for all five major cities as well as turned on the computer screens to show the same sort of circular figures in some of the image slides. And as @NoobeyGaming points out: Summit also has these similar target images to what the Slides show + 4 out of the 5 locations. pic.twitter.com/RCluyyqFEJ — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) August 10, 2020 Treyarch also updated BO4’s Message of the Day screen, adding in another one of those overhead images of Summit that looked identical to the other ones that had been included with the slide projectors. #BlackOps4 Message of the Day reportedly updated with this pic.twitter.com/MlQqeCPr1e — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) August 10, 2020 So, what about Warzone? So, if the teaser was to stop here, it would be safe to conclude that its goal was to hint that Summit may be returning for yet another one of Treyarch’s titles in 2020. However, we already knew that thanks to previous CoD 2020 map leaks, so it’s a good thing that’s not all these mysterious images and graphics have to offer, because it appears they bear a connection to Warzone as well. NoahJ456 decided to look further into it all, starting by lining up the text slides with the circles shown on the Summit computer screens, revealing a secret jumble of words: “TURN,” “ELEVATOR,” and “WHEN.” As revealed by @NoahJ456, overlaying one of the slides over the actual screen in Summit circles the letters W H E N pic.twitter.com/8Rd7Vz93ys — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) August 10, 2020 This is where the battle royale comes in; prominent CoD leaker ModernWarzone claimed that some of the more important inaccessible bunkers in Warzone have elevators in them as well as other Cold War references. He’s even managed to get pictures of these elevators using a recon drone since players can’t actually get inside the rooms, so it’s clear that one of the hidden messages in the teaser directly ties in with this. https://twitter.com/ModernWarzone/status/1292883098200346629 This is most likely all about the in-game event coming to Warzone sometime in the near future, as hinted at by Activision in the official Season 5 Roadmap. It’s been leaked and rumored for a while that the first full CoD 2020 reveal will happen during this event, so it’s safe to assume this is what it’s all about. Potential release date & zombies Believe it or not, the teaser goes even deeper that everything discussed above. Further close examination of the slides with the random letters, when matched up with some of the other circular patterns, revealed the message “BISH YOU WERE HERE,” which is in reference to a famous World Chess Championship match played between American Grandmaster Bobby Fischer and his Russian counterpart Boris Spassky in 1972. While that may not mean much on its own, it becomes a lot more relevant when taking into account that a lot of the teasers for Season 5 were themed around chess pieces, especially the rook, which also happens to be the logo of Shadow Company, a new faction that was added in Modern Warfare and Warzone. Furthermore, the match sits atop history not only for the prominent players involved but also because it was a metaphorical battle between the USA and USSR, who were embroiled in the Cold War at the time. Oh, there’s that Cold War reference again! There’s more: a 2014 film called Pawn Sacrifice, which is about Bobby Fischer’s triumphs in 1972, runs exactly 1 hour and 15 minutes (1:15), a number that can be important for a variety of reasons. Even more interesting: In 2014, there was a movie based on the famous Chess Game. It was called Pawn Sacrifice. The run time of the movie is 115 minutes. — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) August 10, 2020 For one, Element 115 is a core aspect of Zombies in Call of Duty, as it was initially used for the creation of zombies as well as the substance that powers the various superweapons players can use to counter them, according to the CoD Wiki: Element 115 was used to create the zombies as one of its side effects was the reanimation of dead cells. The zombies were to be used as super-soldiers by the Germans. After creating them, the Germans realized that they were uncontrollable and would lead to mankind’s destruction. The Ray Gun, the Pack-a-Punch Machine, the Perk-a-Cola machines, the Wunderwaffe DG-2, and other various Wonder Weapons are all powered by Element 115, along with the teleporters. It would appear Element 115 can also control the zombies, as the Focusing Stone is a shrunken-down meteor that Richtofen claims will let him control the world. So what does this mean? Well, it’s nothing conclusive, but it could be a solid indicator that Zombies will be returning to the franchise after Infinity Ward decided to skip a year with Modern Warfare. There’s also the possibility that the 115 runtime number might be Activision/Treyarch’s ingenious way of teasing the release date since 11/5 could mean November 5, which would be very possible and make sense. There’s a lot to digest here, we know. Whether you like it or not, Activision have seemingly abandoned their usual way of announcing new CoD games in favor of an approach akin to a wild goose chase through the wormhole of intricate easter eggs and multi-layered teasers. This looks to be only the tip of the iceberg so expect a lot more information to be revealed in the coming days and weeks. As always, make sure to follow us on Twitter @DexertoINTEL for all the latest Call of Duty news, leaks, updates, and more.
