Haymaker gets “insanely broken” Aftermarket Part buff in Modern Warfare 3 ActivisionMW3’s Jak Maglift Kit Aftermarket Part just received a buff that makes the Haymaker Shotgun feel “insanely broken,” according to players. Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 unleashed seven Aftermarket Parts on the game, one being the Jak Maglift Kit for Haymakers. This particular part allows players to equip the shotgun with an oversized drum magazine, which many quickly put to good use. And since the Aftermarket Part also increases the weapon’s rate of fire, it didn’t take long for the community to label it an overpowered addition. As such, players were surprised when the latest MW3 patch buffed the Jak Maglift Kit. The consensus is that the part is now broken beyond belief. MW3 players shocked by “broken” Haymaker Aftermarket Part MW3’s February 21 update introduced a buff that “Increased rate of fire from 357rpm to 500rpm (+40%)” for Haymaker’s already OP Jak Maglift Kit. Players and content creators like Wacke spotted the difference shortly after the patch went live. One user on Reddit shared a before-and-after video highlighting how much faster the buff makes the gun’s rate of fire. It’s a comical change of pace, as seen in the clip linked below: Other MW3 players responding to the post shared their own experiences with the new Haymaker changes. In fact, one Redditor claimed the overhauled Jak Maglift Kit helped them break their previous kill record. “It is so insanely broken. I broke my kill record first game using it,” the player explained. Someone else argued that this may “kill” the fun of Modern Warfare 3’s close-quarters combat maps. However, other fans in the comments couldn’t seem happier about the Aftermarket Part buff. Reads one such reply, “This AMP is lit as f**k I love it.” Given that developers constantly tweak weapon buffs and nerfs, this particular change may eventually fade into obscurity.

MW3 has ignored Ground War for three seasons and that has to change – Dexerto
MW3 has ignored Ground War for three seasons and that has to change ActivisionFor the past three seasons, MW3 has overlooked its popular mass-multiplayer mode, Ground War, and it’s time for new maps to be introduced. With the release of Season 3 hitting MW3 those who enjoy Ground War are now calling out the developers for their lack of attention to the mode. Ground War has been a staple in the previous iterations of Modern Warfare but MW3 has not carried on the tradition. The 32v32 mode takes place on the largest multiplayer map and features ammo drops and vehicular transport. But it has not received updates since MW3 first launched back in November 2023. A post to the official MW3 Reddit brought attention to the issue after the release of the most recent season. Unlike Warzone and multiplayer, which received several updates, other modes like Ground War were left untouched. “I’m honestly shocked that MW3 has gotten to its third season and there hasn’t been ANY additions to Ground War. Whether new maps or ones carried forward from last year are much needed,” explained the original poster. Call of Duty has become known for bringing back old maps to newer games with a couple of minor tweaks. The same can be said for Warzone, which has gone back and forth between several islands. “I would love if the old MW2 ground war maps would carry forward. Sa’id City, Sarrif Bay and Guijarro were great. Seeing that MWZ has already been using MW2 locations for Dark Aether levels, I imagine the size of including them isn’t that big,” commented another. MW3 just unveiled its third season which is packed with new maps, modes, operators, and perks. Although these changes only expand between MW3’s multiplayer and Warzone. Sledgehammer has yet to comment on or address the lack of support for Ground War. Something that has left fans of the mode disappointed. However, there is still time for a mid-season update or perhaps another overhaul in Season 4.

MW3 guru explains why most popular SMG lives up to the hype – Dexerto
MW3 guru explains why most popular SMG lives up to the hype ActivisionTrueGameData made a case for the Rival-9 being the best SMG in MW3 and backed up the claim with detailed statistics. The dust has finally settled, and it’s just about time to establish a clear meta in Modern Warfare 3. One week of action has given community members plenty of time to try out every weapon and sparse out winners and losers. All signs point toward the game being dominated by ARs. The Holger 556, MCW, and DG-58 dominate popularity rankings, and it’s easy to see why after going up against one of those three ARs during a match. But that doesn’t mean there still isn’t room for SMGs to shine. The Rival-9 has been pegged as the best SMG in MW3 by most community members, and TrueGameDate explained why the hype is real. What is the best SMG in MW3? When building an SMG loadout, TrueGameData suggests players target low ADS times, sprint to fire time, good movement speed, and other minor benefits. After testing every SMG, the MW3 expert concluded that the Rival-9 is the best option in the game. As for why, the Rival-9 boasts a huge chest hitbox, one of the fastest time-to-kill speeds, good damage range, and it takes three shots to the legs or stomach to decrease the gun’s TTK. This means that even if you miss a few shots, it will take a lot for the weapon to not kill in around 264ms. TrueGameData argued: “The Rival-9 stands out to me as the best SMG because it is forgiving, has a fast TTK, and a pretty good damage range.” It’s important to note that the WSP Swarm has a better TTK than the Rival-9, but one shot to the legs or stomach decreases the SMG’s TTK time, making it very unforgiving. Best Rival-9 MW3 loadout TrueGameData built this loadout to at least take on gun fights around 20 meters away. But players will find the most success using the Rival 9 in any engagement within 10 meters. The YouTuber implores all players to use a Shadowstrike Suppressor on their loadouts, as the muzzle removes you from the mini-map and doesn’t have any downsides. Muzzle: Shadowstrike Suppressor – Stock: Bruen Flash V4 Stock – Underbarrel: XRK Edge BW-4 Handstop – Ammunition: 9mm Low Grain – Rear Grip: Bruen Flash Grip – The YouTuber implores all players to use a Shadowstrike Suppressor on their loadouts, as the muzzle removes you from the mini-map and has no downsides. Using high-grain ammunition extends the SMG’s damage range out to around 11.5 meters. And TrueGameData recommends that players use the XRK Edge BW-4 Handstop on most MW3 loadouts as it offers “crazy movement speed benefits and is an excellent attachment for SMGs and ARs.” That’s everything you need to know about the Rival-9. MW3 glitch unlocks all attachments without leveling, but there’s a catch – Dexerto
MW3 glitch unlocks all attachments without leveling, but there’s a catch ActivisionA new glitch in Modern Warfare 3 unlocks all attachments without leveling up your weapon, but there’s a catch. Find out right here. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 3 have arrived and brought back Rebirth Island, new weapons, balance changes to guns, and a new Battle Pass for you to unlock exciting skins and weapon blueprints. The season also brought a 420-day bundle with Cheech and Chong skins that has been called the best one yet. However, with the new season, comes new bugs, meta changes, and exploits that the player base was quick to spot in MW3. One such glitch found by players lets you unlock all the attachments in a level 1 weapon, but with a catch – it only works on unlocked weapons. If you’re wondering how the glitch works, we’ve got you covered right here. How to unlock all attachments in MW3 and Warzone Season 3 easily In order to carry out the glitch, you need to head to a Private Match in MW3’s Multiplayer Mode and visit the Armory. There, you can choose the weapon you’d like to apply the attachments to and select it to mod the weapon. Once you’ve applied all five attachments to your weapon, save the weapon blueprint mod in your armory and give it a name. As soon as you’ve done that, navigate to the main Call of Duty HQ screen and launch Warzone. In Warzone, head to your Loadouts and edit your Custom Loadout. Then, navigate to the gun you modded earlier, click on Armory, and select your saved Weapon Blueprint. Once you do that, you’ll be able to see your fully modded weapon in your loadout as an active weapon that you can use in your Multiplayer or Warzone matches. While this bug still works in the game, some players are questioning whether or not it will be patched soon. With the season being out for only a day, it’s only a matter of time before Activision takes note of this and decides to patch the bug with a hotfix. MW3 fans split as devs ban all sniper rifles in Ranked Play – Dexerto
MW3 fans split as devs ban all sniper rifles in Ranked Play ActivisionThe MW3 community is split down the middle on the recent announcement that all sniper rifles were banned in the game’s Ranked Play. The Ranked Play mode of MW3 provides players a place to play the game with a more competitive edge and mindset. As such, the game mode often removes certain weapons from the rotation that the devs feel are too unbalanced to make the playing field a little more even. However, these decisions can be rather controversial, as is the case with the newly announced removal of all sniper rifles from MW3’s Ranked Play. MW3 community doesn’t know how to feel about all snipers being removed from ranked After the patch notes for today’s release revealed that all sniper rifles would be removed from Ranked Play, a fan took to the MW3 subreddit to start the discussion. They started it off by saying: “There’s gonna be a lot of unhappy folks out here.” And, for the most part, that was correct, though there is an equal amount of people who are happy about it. “They really call it a shooter game but restrict 90% of the weapons, can someone find the irony here? Wait for Season 3 until all SMGs, besides the Rival-9, are getting restricted too.” It has been a point of contention as the MW3 devs have continued to remove weapons from Ranked Play, but having every single sniper rifle being banned seems to be a tipping point for some. “… the selection now is even more limited than Halo lmao. At least there you can actually have a BR and Sniper.” However, there are plenty of fans of the decision, with one user saying, “Good now I won’t die 3 seconds into a round on Highrise.” Snipers are apparently a cause of frustration for a lot of players, and these fans feel that they shouldn’t be in Ranked, or even the casual modes: “Might have to start playing ranked. I wish there was a no snipers casual mode.” These decisions and changes will always draw the ire of some players, but it is a little odd to have the consensus be split so evenly.

MW3 fans praise game’s original maps as “huge step up” from MW2 – Dexerto
MW3 fans praise game’s original maps as “huge step up” from MW2 ActivisionMW3 fans are taking to social media to praise the devs for the new maps they’ve released in the game, saying they’re a great improvement on previous games. Every season of MW3 is poised to bring with it a slew of new content for players to enjoy and dive into. Almost always, that new content includes a handful of new maps that offer new scenery and environments for people to play in. For MW3, the community is very happy with these new maps and are praising the devs on social media as a result. MW3 fans are loving new maps The praise came on the MW3 subreddit in a post titled: “Is it just me that really likes the new maps they’ve added?” The poster excludes Greece, but goes on to say that every other map that has come out with the game has been great and some become their favorites. “They’re a huge step up from crap like Black Gold or that Lighthouse map we got in MW2.” Largely, the MW3 community is in agreement with them, with many voicing their happiness about how Sledgehammer Games have designed their original maps in the game. “I really like all the new maps they’ve added so far, which is rare! They’re a good mix of sizes and looks… even if they are all sunny. MWII season maps SUCKED in comparison.” One user even goes so far as to say that Departure is a better version of Terminal, which has been a fan-favorite for over a decade. Some even take the time to say that Sledgehammer has always had a great talent for designing multiplayer maps: “Even with some of the problems I had with Vanguard the maps were overall really fun, I rate SHG as just below Treyarch in map design.” Many view it as a sign of a really good batch of content for MW3’s Season 2, which has quickly gained some goodwill from players, save for the Zombies community. The CoD community is known for its vocal criticisms when they don’t like something in the game, so to see a good amount being vocal about the opposite is a good sign for the devs.

MW3 fans finally get long-awaited skin after year wait but they’re worried for Black Ops 6 – Dexerto
MW3 fans finally get long-awaited skin after year wait but they’re worried for Black Ops 6 ActivisionAfter a year of waiting, Modern Warfare 3 players have got their hands on a long-awaited skin. However, it has caused some concerns for them for Black Ops 6. Call of Duty has been involved in the cosmetics and microtransactions side of things for a while. However, it has exploded in recent years thanks to the popularity of Warzone as it competes with other battle royale titles. The increased number of cosmetics has, at times, frustrated fans. Many have complained that the focus has been put on the new skins and weapon bundles instead of gameplay issues. Yet, there have been plenty of cosmetics that have also excited players. Over the last year, they’ve waited for a number of clean-looking variants to the original members of TF141. Those calls have finally been answered in Season 5 Reloaded, with a brand-new Soap skin – the long-awaited mohawk look. However, it has come in a cell-shaded variant – the aptly-named Toon Force 141 – which has annoyed some players. And, it’s even got them worried for the future. “F*cking Celshaded. I blame the community,” one annoyed player said. “I hope they don’t put cel-shaded garbage in Black Ops 6 cuz A) it f*cks with my eyes and I hate that B) if I wanted cel-shaded I’d go play Borderlands,” another added. “If you think Black Ops 6 won’t have the same goofy skins, then you’ll be disappointed,” another player commented, noting they may be “better” than the current ones, but still not as realistic as some fans want. “If it’s going to be goofier I hope they at least make it look good, if people are paying for it they better be releasing 10/10 skins,” another said. Pre-ordering the Vault edition of Black Ops 6 has allowed players to use less realistic skins in the beta already. Whether or not we’ll get Niki Minaj crossovers again is unknown. However, there will be some big plans if skins aren’t carrying over from the Modern Warfare series.

MW3 fans fed up with “pre-determined” lobbies – Dexerto
MW3 fans fed up with “pre-determined” lobbies Call of DutyMW3 fans are at their wit’s end with the game’s matchmaking, which they believe is pre-determining their lobbies to force losses. MW3 has been mired with complaints from the playerbase about its matchmaking system ever since it launched a couple of months ago. The issue of Skill-Based Matchmaking (SBMM) has been heated long before this entry in the popular franchise, as well. Now, players are showing how fed up they are with the system after being placed in lobbies with a disadvantage. MW3 players are upset with “pre-determiend” lobbies The collective frustrations are being shared over in the game’s subreddit, where a player made a post titled: “Getting really tired of lobbies pre-determined to make me lose. In what world does this make sense?” In the post, they share a screenshot of a game lobby with a discrepancy in the levels of both teams. The player themselves in Level 215, but their team is made up of mostly players below Level 15. On the other hand, the other team is full of players in the triple digits, meaning they have more experience, and, theoretically, skill as well. The comments on the post are not very happy about the matchmaking either, with one MW3 user saying, “The matchmaking in this game… is completely out of hand and is actively killing any enjoyment I get out of playing.” Another player believes that the game is constantly working against players to cause them to lose: “There is no organic gameplay anymore, it’s all predetermined.” Many users suggest that the best way to combat this is to just leave the lobby before the game starts to try and dodge the system. “If the sbmm wants me engaged, it can try better the next round,” is a comment that summarizes the belief concisely. The matchmaking debate is not cooling off anytime soon, and it remains to be seen whether or not the MW3 devs will change anything.

MW3 fans demand removal of “cheesy” weapon that “ruins” game – Dexerto
MW3 fans demand removal of “cheesy” weapon that “ruins” game ActivisionCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 fans are calling for the removal of Riot Shields in the game as they believe they are “way too cheesy” and are “ruining games.” Modern Warfare 3 is here, and it’s quickly earned recognition as one of the best versions of Call of Duty multiplayer in recent years. Despite negative feedback from some critics, particularly around the game’s campaign, it seems that the multiplayer salvaged everything. The game features remastered versions of all 16 maps from the original Modern Warfare 2 title that was released in 2009, and there will be plenty more maps coming to the game when Season 1 starts in early December. However, one staple Call of Duty feature has players wishing it wasn’t carried over to Modern Warfare 3 as fans are calling for the removal or revamp of the controversial Riot Shield. A popular post in the Modern Warfare 3 community on Reddit states, “Riot Shields should not have carried over,” before diving into the details of why. The player behind the post writes, “It’s a cheesy primary with minimal negatives and is more effective than you realize. Blocking bullets sounds simple on paper, but when you combine fast lethal usage and with no counter other than to stick them with grenades or possibly outmaneuver with little success, it’s too powerful as it is.” In the end, they have a handful of suggestions for the developers, adding that “Removing them is the main option since it’s way too cheesy to keep in the game.” Alternatively, the player shares that having them as a field upgrade or streak could fix a lot of the concerns. The community mostly agrees with the sentiment, with many opting not to call for the removal of the weapon but instead providing suggestions or feedback on how it could be fixed. “I think the best solution for the riot shield would be to have it fold down when not in use. Think the same idea as the deployable cover,” one player wrote. Another shared their recent experience of a Search and Destroy game, writing, “Played multiple search games last night with 4+ people on the other team using them, completely ruins the match.” Others have no sympathy for the poster, suggesting that they should learn how to deal with the Riot Shield using sticky grenades and movement. “This is seriously a problem for you guys?” the player wrote. “It’s never been easier to counter this. You guys keep crying over the smallest damn things, and I’m tired of it. Just get good at the game instead of crying on this platform.” To learn more about Modern Warfare 3, see our coverage here.

MW3 fans demand change to Blackcell skins after “awful” Rick Grimes variant – Dexerto
MW3 fans demand change to Blackcell skins after “awful” Rick Grimes variant ActivisionThe MW3 community has had enough with the Backcell skins, demanding changes be made after the Rick Grimes variant failed to impress. Every season of MW3 brings with it a special kind of battle pass called the Blackcell, which comes with unique, exclusive skins and content. Since this pass requires players to spend even more money than the usual battle pass, most fans expect the best of the best with its unlockables. However, many don’t feel this is the case after recent Blackcell skin for Rick Grimes has caused the MW3 community to request changes to be made. MW3 players want changes to Blackcell skins after lackluster Rick Grimes variant A post was made on the MW3 subreddit titled: “How is no one talking about how AWFUL Blackcell Rick looks?” The post comes along with an image of the skin, and an explanation of how “The Walking Dead has so much material to use and they did the laziest thing they could do. Rick looks like he has become a living NFT.” Much of the community agrees with them, speaking on how they preferred the skins from previous games: “Remember when MW 2019 and Black Ops Cold War had two extra unlockable recolors for each skin in their Battle Passes?” one fan said. For the most part, players seem to believe that the collaborations’ first priority is to make money, and “not the quality of the content.” Many players blame the people who are buying these skins: “Yet people still buy this garbage, so they will keep on releasing it.” It is clear that the MW3 community wants a revamp of the Blackcell skins, ditching the usual color scheme and changing it up. However, a request like this is never guaranteed to be met, and it’s unclear if the devs have any intention to do anything at the time of writing.

MW3 expert reveals why the shooting range is a lie – Dexerto
MW3 expert reveals why the shooting range is a lie ActivisionIceManIsaac revealed why the shooting range isn’t an accurate representation of how good a loadout is. Fortunately, there is a simple fix. Without detailed weapon stats in Modern Warfare 2, players primarily relied on loadout guides or stat websites like Sym.gg or TrueGameData. Players could only get a feel for their weapons by testing them on dummies in the firing range. It also didn’t help that patch notes excluded specific weapon buffs and nerfs. For example, the Season 6 MW2 update “reduced upper torso damage” for the Lachmann Shroud. Then you look at MW3, and the Day 1 update increased the MTZ-556’s maximum damage range from 23 to 27 meters. Modern Warfare 3 also brings back detailed weapon stats so players can know precisely what each attachment does to a weapon. Despite players finally having access to full weapon stats and detailed patch notes, Modern Warfare 3’s firing range is deceiving if not used correctly. Modern Warfare 3 expert exposes shooting range flaw MW3 increases base multiplayer health from 100 to 150. It would also make sense for the bots to have 150 health in the shooting range. However, IceManIsaac revealed: “The bots are still using the 100 base health that we had from Modern Warfare 2.” The YouTuber continued: “So when you go in and start to fry these bots and are like wow this gun beams. And then you go to use it and it feels completely different.” IceManIsaac backed up his claim by building a DM56 loadout with a lower torso damage of 50 and a different class with an upper torso damage value of 49. So theoretically one should kill in three shots, while the other should not be able to. Testing revealed that the bots have 100 health in MW3. Luckily there is an easy fix to make the bots use accurate damage values. Here is a step-by-step guide to change the dummy health to 150. Pause while in the shooting range – Select Dummy Settings – Then choose 1 plate – So, make sure you follow these simple steps before testing a new loadout in the shooting range. MW3 expert reveals underrated AR to rival Holger with lightning-fast TTK – Dexerto
MW3 expert reveals underrated AR to rival Holger with lightning-fast TTK ActivisionCall of Duty expert TrueGameData has revealed which assault rifles have the best TTK in Modern Warfare 3, and one of them is a pretty competitive rival to the Holger 556. Whenever a new Call of Duty title releases, it doesn’t take long for a fresh meta to form. Players typically fall for a gun or two in the beta period, but once everything else opens up, they usually slip away. In Modern Warfare 3, there is a bit of a race to figure out what is going to be the best gun to use when the Warzone integration comes around in December. Some experts have flagged the Bas-B and MTZ-556 as top options, but if you’re not too worried about that for now and just want to dominate in Multiplayer lobbies, well, TrueGameData has a few answers. Best M13B loadout in Modern Warfare 3 That’s right, the CoD stats guru has highlighted two assault rifles that have top-tier TTKs right now, with one of them being the popular Holger 556. The other, though, is a more underrated choice – the M13B. The M13B has a close-range TTK of around 284m/s, which just creeps above 300 as fights start to move towards the 30-40 meter range. It does drop off a fair way in the 40-50 meter range, while the Holger stays pretty consistent all the way out. “I said this was my top pick (M13B), I think I’d basically put it tied with the Holger. They’re both excellent, I don’t want to say one is really a lot better than the other,” TrueGameData added. Muzzle: Shadowstrike Suppressor – Underbarrel: XRK Edge BW-4 Handstop – Laser: 1mW Artemis Laser – Optic: Mk.3 Reflector – Rear Grip: D37 Grip – The M13B is a pretty complete package too, as, on top of its rapid TTK, it also has top-tier ADS and movement speeds, meaning you aren’t going to feel bogged down at any point. As the devs start dropping some buffs and nerfs into the game, things will change. But, for now, it’s the best option around.

Atlanta FaZe dominate MW3 Esports World Cup: Recap, schedule, prize pool & more – Dexerto
Atlanta FaZe dominate MW3 Esports World Cup: Recap, schedule, prize pool & more ActivisionCall of Duty Championships mark the end of a CDL season. However, a different final tournament has been featured for 2024. 11 CDL and four Challengers teams will competed for the lion’s share of a $1.8 million prize pool, and Atlanta FaZe took home the biggest prize. For the first time since 2017, OpTic Texas became CoD world champions. The New York Subliners had an opportunity to win a second straight title, but OpTic pulled through with help from the hometown Dallas crowd. However, OpTic couldn’t keep up their hot streak and ultimately fell to the Atlanta FaZe before they’d go on to win the entire tournament. This FaZe roster put themselves on top and walked away $600k richer. Cellium getting MVP isn’t too surprising considering how much of a consistent carry he’s been for the Atlanta FaZe roster. MW3 devs use wrong optic in weekly challenge description – Dexerto
MW3 devs use wrong optic in weekly challenge description ActivisionMW3 players are noticing that devs have put the wrong optic in the description of how to complete a weekly challenge. Part of MW3’s gunsmith is unlocking different attachments through completing various challenges every week. This also includes Aftermarket parts, which can be unlocked to change the way a gun operates in significant ways. However, one of this week’s Aftermarket Parts has been revealed to be giving the wrong information on how to unlock it. A different optic needed to complete MW3 challenge A post was made on the MW3 subreddit to share this finding: “PSA: You need to use the KR INTLAS LSJ-3 Optic. Not the AOK 4.0x RQ-9 optic.” They explain that in order to complete the challenges this week, players will need to use a different sight than what is told in the game. The responses to the post have been both appreciative of the original poster, and rather critical of the developers. The praise is evident in comments like: “Thanks, I knew something was up when everything involved some random upgrade thingy we recently unlocked.” But the MW3 criticisms are coming even more strongly: “These developers are so out to lunch. I’ve already maxed it out with 0/30 still showing.” The disbelief at how something as simple as this is evident throughout the entire thread, with one player giving a harsh comment: “I dunno how people who would probably fail 3rd grade reading class are getting to work on AAA games.” It’s not a total surprise to see this mistake, as MW3’s newest update for Season 1 Reloaded has brought more than a few issues.

MW3 devs reveal plan to test out new Killstreak feature – Dexerto
MW3 devs reveal plan to test out new Killstreak feature ActivisionA recent Q&A with Sledgehammer Games has revealed plenty of things coming to MW3 including a return of Killstreak looping. It’s been two weeks since MW3 launched, bringing fans to 2009’s Modern Warfare 2’s legacy maps with new gameplay bells and whistles. While the launch hasn’t been flawless, Sledgehammer Games has remained exceptionally communicative on what the future holds for MW3. The studio just held a Q&A session on Reddit, where members of the team interacted with the community to discuss glaring issues. Aside from the wave of SMM-related questions, good information was shared discussing where Sledgehammer Games stands on player concerns. One change the studio may look to address involves Kill/Scorestreaks and may see the return of “looping Killstreaks.” Sledgehammer Games hints MW3 Killstreaks may return Since CoD 4: Modern Warfare, the Killstreak system has been one of CoD’s most rewarding systems. As the name implies, racking up long streaks of kills will reward you with in-game equipment, such as UAVs or even Juggernauts, to turn the tide in your favor. CoD has seen various shifts over time, with the Killstreak system converting into a Scorestreak system to reward players who play the objective. However, the most recent change to the system came in Modern Warfare 2019, as players could no longer “loop Killstreaks” meaning they’d have to die to earn a fresh set of Killstreaks. MW3 features that same mentality, and during the Q&A session, a player asked the developers if they plan on changing that. Sledgehammer Games replied to JuggerClutch’s comment with a rather interesting reply, as the devs stated it’s something they’ll look to implement in the Experimental Playlists. The previously mentioned mode is something the studio revealed recently as a means of trying new gameplay features to judge player feedback. The first playlist introduced red outlines on players to aid player visibility. With MW3 fresh off its launch, don’t expect this feature to be tested anytime soon. However, it’s been a breath of fresh air to see how Sledgehammer is handling its first CoD title in two years since the launch of Vanguard.

MW3 devs respond to ‘snaking 2.0’ PC exploit ruining games for console players – Dexerto
MW3 devs respond to ‘snaking 2.0’ PC exploit ruining games for console players ActivisionThe Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 devs have finally issued a response to the new “snaking 2.0” movement exploit that some players have been running in multiplayer. Over the years, plenty of Call of Duty players have tried to get a leg up on the competition in a number of different ways. Some of these have been through outright cheating – using aim bots, god mode, and speed boosts – to annoy others. In other cases, players have taken the game’s mechanics to an extreme level, exploiting them for their advantage. There has been especially prevalent over the last few years through snaking – a movement technique that sees them swap quickly between crouching and being prone. In Modern Warfare 3, a ‘new’ version of snaking has popped up, which allows players to slide across the map as if they’re sprinting. As you can imagine, that’s pretty broken. MW3 devs respond to broken ‘snaking 2.0’ exploit on PC As CoD gurus HusKerrs and Repullze showcased, the ‘snaking 2.0’ method is only workable on mouse and keyboard, but that hasn’t stopped it from ruining multiplayer games already. So much so, that it has forced the devs to issue a pretty instant response before it gets too widespread. “We’re investigating an exploit that allows players to sprint while appearing in the prone animation,” they said in the early hours of November 22. As of writing, the exploit has yet to be patched but the fact that the devs are investigating it already has sparked celebrations from the community. Sledgehammer have also stated that they’re “actively investigating” snaking as a whole, especially given its prominence in the competitive CDL scene. So, maybe it won’t be a headache for too much longer.

MW3 devs respond to fan calls for return of iconic CoD modes – Dexerto
MW3 devs respond to fan calls for return of iconic CoD modes Activision BlizzardThe Modern Warfare 3 devs have issued a cryptic response to fans calling for the return of some of the most iconic multiplayer modes in Call of Duty history. When it comes to picking a game mode to queue up for in Call of Duty multiplayer, everyone has their favorites. Some will sit and only play Team Deathmatch, others are loyal to Search and Destroy, and you’ll find plenty of wannabe CDL pros grinding out Hardpoint. For the most part, the staple modes of multiplayer have stuck around and haven’t been tampered with all that much. However, there are some modes that have been cut and not included in playlist rotations. Losing different modes has annoyed fans time and time again, especially when there is a lack of communication from the devs about why they’re not in the playlist rotations. MW3 devs give cryptic response to calls for Capture the Flag’s return As a result, players have continually rallied and urged the devs to bring some of these modes back. That includes Capture The Flag, which had been a staple in Call of Duty up until Modern Warfare 3’s launch. “If you guys could bring back anything from CoD’s past to MW3, what would it be? For me, I would choose Capture The Flag. I really miss that mode and think it would be so fun to play on MWIII,” Redditor Eng11sh said. Their call for CTF’s return was echoed by a number of players too. “Capture The Flag or Demolition,” another said. As those calls stacked up, the devs ultimately chimed in with a cryptic response – posting the eyeball emoji on the thread. Some fans took it as a hint that Capture The Flag would be making a response. “Is Capture The Flag coming back? That’d be a nice change of pace,” one added. Others stated it was a more general ‘always watching’ comment, and they were taking every suggestion on board. Though, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

MW3 devs respond to Christopher Judge’s jokes by comparing CoD player count to GoW – Dexerto
MW3 devs respond to Christopher Judge’s jokes by comparing CoD player count to GoW Game Awards 2023Developers of Modern Warfare 3 are taking to social media to respond to Christopher Judge’s remarks about the new Call of Duty campaign by comparing the player count of MW3 to that of God of War. At last night’s Game Awards, the actor who plays Kratos in the most recent GoW games made a joke at the expense of this year’s newest Call of Duty. While taking the stage to announce the winner for Best Performance, Judge made a joke about his lengthy acceptance speech from last year’s show, while also poking fun at Modern Warfare 3: “Fun fact: My speech was actually longer than this year’s Call of Duty campaign.” Now, both former and current CoD developers are responding to the joke on social media. MW3 developers aren’t holding back in clapping back at Judge The CoD developers did not waste any time to respond to Judge, recognizing the intended lightheartedness of the joke, but still taking issue with the setting and context of it. One of the developers pulled no punches in posting, “‘funny’ but yeah the metrics that CoD absolutely destroys all of the God of War games… in is almost equally laughable…” Another developer was a little more diplomatic in how they responded to the joke with their post, acknowledging that they’ve heard worse things. The issue they took was that the environment where Judge made the joke was an issue: “… we don’t expect it from a peer, at an event that supposed to be celebrating this years achievements in gaming.” It extends beyond the developers of the game as well, with Barry Sloane, the actor behind this new trilogy’s Captain Price, also weighing in: “That Christopher Judge guy writes all his own material I hear. Talented.” Upon release, Modern Warfare 3’s campaign was met with a lot of negative buzz, with the open-world style of missions and length drawing the most criticism from fans and critics alike. However, this hasn’t stopped many players from enjoying the game’s multiplayer and Zombies mode.

MW3 devs respond as long-awaited Aftermarket Part delayed in Season 5 Reloaded – Dexerto
MW3 devs respond as long-awaited Aftermarket Part delayed in Season 5 Reloaded ActivisionThe Modern Warfare 3 devs have responded as a long-awaited Aftermarket Part for the Reclaimer 18 has been delayed by just a little bit. Over the last few years, the Call of Duty devs have tinkered with some long-standing features. Create-A-Class and weapon unlocks have both gone through some changes, with the latter getting some new twists in Modern Warfare 3. Previously, you’d go through and level a weapon up in order to unlock new attachments. Now, there are universal attachments – which are unlocked across a set of weapons – and Aftermarket Parts as well. These Aftermarket Parts have caused a fair few issues in Modern Warfare 3 already. Some have made weapons completely overpowered – buffing their fire rate and damage profiles – while others have been labeled as “pointless” right away. Well, when it comes to Season 5 Reloaded, players were promised a new AMP for the Reclaimer 18 shotgun. In the pre-update roadmap, the new part – which would allow players to run the shotgun in Akimbo – was set to come in Week 7. However, that isn’t the case now. Instead, the devs have pushed it back a week from what was originally planned. “The JAK Devastators will debut next week. Week 7 is a Blueprint reward. Apologies for any inconvenience!” they posted on Reddit. Sledgehammer did, however, give fans a look at the new weapon inspect animation that they’ll be able to use when the akimbo shotguns are in-game. Despite that, some fans did air their concerns about the kit. “It’s gonna be buffed then nerfed after a week as usual,” one said. Another predicted it will be “super OP” for the rest of Modern Warfare 3’s cycle. The extra week wait is an annoyance, however, it’s not like the JAK Devastators have been permanently shelved. MW3 fans will still be able to relive some MW2 (2009) nostalgia soon. Plus, the Black Ops 6 beta is still in the mix as well. So there’s plenty to get stuck into.

MW3 devs promise COR-45 buff after Season 5 nerf went too far – Dexerto
MW3 devs promise COR-45 buff after Season 5 nerf went too far ActivisionModern Warfare 3 and Warzone players complained that a significant nerf to the COR-45 in Season 5 was too harsh, so Sledgehammer Games listened to feedback and announced a buff. As part of the Season 5 weapon changes, The COR-45 suffered a decreased fire rate of 36% and a reduced fire rate for the XRK v6 Match Trigger Action and XRK v21 Heavy Match Trigger Action attachments. This comes after the devs were also forced to fix a COR-45 exploit in the July 11 update that previously let players take advantage of faster fire rates when using “non-standard input methods.” Sledgehammer Games hammered the COR-45 in Season 5 to remove the pistol entirely from the meta. Still, players labeled it “useless” in multiplayer and battle royale matches, so the devs were forced to backtrack. “Feedback heard. We’ve made some fire rate improvements for the COR-45 that we expect to release in soon,” Sledgehammer Games responded. Players questioned why the COR-45 got nerfed in the first place. “Should’ve never touched it,” one user argued. Some players believe that the pistol was never strong to begin with, so they questioned the nerf. “It’s always been useless,” a second player claimed. Other commenters used this as an opportunity to plead for more pistols to be added during MW3’s life cycle. “I’m still waiting for them to add a new pistol entirely, it’s the only weapon class that we haven’t gotten a new gun for,” a third player added. Sledgehammer Games did not reveal a release date for the upcoming COR-45 buff, but pistol fans are glad their favorite class is finally getting some respect. For more on changes made in Warzone Season 5, make sure to check out the full patch notes.

MW3 devs hint at tweaking Aim Assist after mixed community feedback – Dexerto
MW3 devs hint at tweaking Aim Assist after mixed community feedback ActivisionCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 developers Sledgehammer Games have hinted at the idea of tweaking Aim Assist amid concerns from both console players and PC players. Modern Warfare 3 has arrived, and players are already racking up kills in Rust, Terminal, Scrapyard, and many more of the classic maps that have returned from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2. During a live stream on November 17, Sledgehammer Games developers spoke for close to an hour about the game’s current state and what’s to come. The team addressed issues like “snaking,” the traditional Prestige system, and gave insight into all four new maps that are coming to the game in Season 1. In addition, the devs spoke about one of the more controversial aspects of the Modern Warfare series, Aim Assist. During the stream, Sledgehammer Games developers described the current state of Aim Assist in MW3 as “okay,” but expressed a desire to examine it more closely. They discussed the possibility of simplifying the Aim Assist settings, potentially reducing the options available to players. This approach could streamline the experience and make tuning the game’s mechanics more manageable. The developers are clearly taking into account the community’s divided opinions regarding Aim Assist in Modern Warfare 3 and are “trying to figure out best solutions.” Aim Assist has long been a fundamental part of Call of Duty games, allowing controller players to improve their precision, especially when compared to a mouse and keyboard, which allows for improved control. But in Modern Warfare 3, Aim Assist has proven to be a point of contention as even before the game had officially released, Professional “Call of Duty” player Anthony “Shotzzy” Cuevas-Castro claimed that Aim Assist had been “nerfed,” stating that it “actually takes skill” in MW3. As such, Aim Assist has proven to be a point of contention for many in the Call of Duty community, as controller players are voicing concerns over what they perceive to be “underpowered” Aim Assist in this year’s release, while many PC players continue to call for reduced Aim Assist features, especially in cross-play scenarios. It remains to be seen how Sledgehammer Games will address the challenges that come with Aim Assist.

MW3 devs finally solve weapon attachment clutter with simple change in Season 2 Reloaded – Dexerto
MW3 devs finally solve weapon attachment clutter with simple change in Season 2 Reloaded ActivisionMW3 players can finally have a cleaner experience when sifting through weapon attachments after the devs release a long-awaited fix. Since the release of MW3, the community has been asking for developers to change how attachments are organized in the Gunsmith. Before, the attachments were all just thrown haphazardly into the same list, leaving players to sift through all of them to find the one they wanted. That changes now with the update for Season 2 Reloaded, which brings a better way of organizing attachments in the Gunsmith. MW3 weapon attachments finally get organization change The change was first seen when the patch notes for the upcoming update were shared online, promising a ton of changes for the game. While there were a lot of big adjustments that caught the community’s attention, the clutter fix was quickly noticed by many players. The fix to the weapon attachment clutter is a simple one: MW3 fans can now filter their attachments by type. Optics: Hybrid, 4x, Thermal, Sniper Scope, 2.5x, Red Dot, Reflex, & Holo – Muzzles: Breachers, Flash Hiders, Suppressors, Comps & Brakes – Underbarrels: Hand Stops, Undermounted Weapons, Bipods, Vert Grips, & Angled Grips – The fix aims to make the entire process of finding the right attachment much easier for players across the board. The response to this change has been positive, with one user on the MW3 subreddit sarcastically saying, “Holy crap, Lois, something of value!” It’s hopefully a small, but useful change, that will help make the game experience much more positive for the user base.

MW3 devs failed to address SBMM in June and players are furious – Dexerto
MW3 devs failed to address SBMM in June and players are furious Activision promised to explain further how Modern Warfare 3 skill-based matchmaking works in June. However, June came and went without a blog, infuriating the player base. After years of silence on the topic, Activision finally gave players a look behind the curtain by detailing how matchmaking works in a thorough 18-page report in April 2024. The blog briefly explained how skill is part of the matchmaking process and confirmed more information would be released in June. However, after the devs failed to deliver that promised blog Modern Warfare 3 players took their frustrations to Reddit. In response to the white paper not getting released, one player joked, “someone should tell Activision that a white paper doesn’t literally mean just a blank piece of paper.” Anger about skill-based matchmaking has only been amplified since the release of XDefiant. Despite being advertised as otherwise, the arena shooter is a direct competitor to Call of Duty and the new FPS title doesn’t use skill-based matchmaking. Activision argued that skill-based matchmaking is valuable because players are likelier to quit matches or stop playing entirely if they consistently lose. For now, at least, XDefiant proved that retaining a strong player base is possible without skill-based matchmaking. That led a second user to argue that Activision is overthinking it because “the fact that there are even white papers on matchmaking shows how convoluted matchmaking is. Just give us a good connection and random lobbies, and let people have some fun.” Even if Activision won’t back down and remove skill-based matchmaking, players at least want more answers on how the system works. A third commenter asked, “Why can’t they just release all this info simultaneously? It’s not because they’re hiding anything, is it?” Activision has yet to respond about missing the June window for releasing more information about Modern Warfare 3 skill-based matchmaking.

MW3 devs confirm iconic CoD map will return but bad news for MW2 DLC maps – Dexerto
MW3 devs confirm iconic CoD map will return but bad news for MW2 DLC maps Sledgehammer Games have confirmed that Shipment will return in Modern Warfare 3, however, it’s bad news for any fan who wants DLC maps from the original Modern Warfare 2. Over the years, there have been many calls from Call of Duty fans for a game that encompasses some of the best maps the entire franchise has ever had. While we’re unlikely to ever get a game made up of solely Modern Warfare, World at War, Black Ops 2, and Black Ops 4 maps, Modern Warfare 3 has brought back plenty of nostalgia. Upon launch, the 2023 title has only got maps from MW2 (2009), though there are plans for original maps to be added to the mix. Naturally, there have also been calls for the devs to add some of the MW2 maps that are still missing – including some popular DLC maps like Storm. However, it’s bad news on that front, but good news if you love Shipment. Shipment to return in MW3 but not MW2 DLC maps That’s right, the devs have confirmed that Shipment will, once again, be making it’s return in Modern Warfare 3 – at least in the Gunfight mode. The devs confirmed that news in their November 20 AMA over on Reddit, and it naturally led to questions about other returning maps including the likes of Carnival, Storm, and Fuel. “There are no plans for these specific maps to return at this time. Our Seasonal updates will largely be made of all-new maps!” they answered, much to the annoyance of some long-time CoD fans. Others did ask if any other maps from the previous Modern Warfare 3 game – well, mainly Resistance – would also be making a return. They didn’t answer that, but it seems unlikely anyway, given that the devs are now focusing on new maps instead.

MW3 devs confirm hated weapon will finally be nerfed in Season 4 & players are delighted – Dexerto
MW3 devs confirm hated weapon will finally be nerfed in Season 4 & players are delighted ActivisionThe Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 devs have confirmed that the much-hated RGL-80 Grenade Launcher is getting some Hardcore-specific nerfs in Season 4, and players couldn’t be happier. If you’ve dropped into a game of Hardcore in Modern Warfare 3 at any point in the last few months, you’ve more than likely been hit by a barrage of grenades from the RGL-80 Grenade Launcher. Given that Hardcore allows you to delete enemies in one shot, the launcher has regularly been used off the rip on small maps. Many players called the RGL “ridiculous” and stated that it made Hardcore matches “unplayable” unless it was going to be nerfed. There had been fears that things would be going the other way, and that the grenade launcher would actually be buffed with the addition of a new Conversion Kit. However, it will finally be nerfed in Season 4 – and will have Hardcore-specific changes to go along with it. “Hardcore-specific balance adjustments for the RGL-80 are coming in Season 4,” one of Sledgehammer Games’ devs posted on the MW3 subreddit. The news of the change, naturally, had some players overjoyed. “Thank God,” one said. “Season 4 officially the best update now,” another added. “I’m really curious what their definition of a nerf is going to end up being,” said another player. Some players urged the devs to outright remove the grenade launcher from Hardcore matches with a ban restriction. Others would argue that the only use for the RGL-80 is to complete the camo mastery challenges and that the launcher isn’t a viable weapon. One fan even went as far as saying it serves “no purpose” in any game mode, never mind just the Hardcore ones. Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone’s Season 4 update drops on May 29, so hopefully there won’t be much more RGL spam to be had at the start of games.

MW3 devs address complaints over “revenge spawns” ruining Rust 24/7 lobbies – Dexerto
MW3 devs address complaints over “revenge spawns” ruining Rust 24/7 lobbies ActivisionThe Modern Warfare 3 devs have responded to player complaints about “revenge spawns” popping up on Rust that’s making things pretty annoying for them. Call of Duty multiplayer has always has some trouble with spawns. Throw it back to the days of the original Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2, and you reach the pinnacle of spawn trapping. It wasn’t uncommon to see teams end games with two players because the rest had quit out from being repeatedly killed off spawn. In recent years, there have been similar headaches with squad spawns and revenge spawns. The latter is when you see off a player from the enemy team and then they spawn pretty much on your shoulder. These spawns become incredibly troublesome on smaller maps, especially Rust, when you can feel like you’re constantly respawning and not able to settle into the flow of a match. MW3 devs address “revenge spawns” on Rustment 24/7 Players have been complaining about that, claiming that revenge spawns have been “ramped up” recently so that enemies can get their own back and really annoy you in the middle of a game. Well, those complaints have drawn a response from Sledgehammer as they’re trying to get things ironed out. “We’re aware of an issue causing unfavorable spawns on Rust, specific to TDM, KC, and HP, after the latest update,” they said in a Reddit comment. “On Friday, we pulled these map+mode combinations from the Rustment 24/7 and Quick Play Playlists until we can release a fix.” Comment byu/Lew1989 from discussion inModernWarfareIII This is obviously not great news for those players who are still hoping to grind away in Rustment 24/7 lobbies, but it makes sense to clean things up. It remains to be seen if it’ll be a quick fix or something that lingers for a while yet, but hopefully we can back to Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, and Kill Confirmed in there before long.

MW3 dev explains why bunny hopping isn’t in the game & if it could be added later – Dexerto
MW3 dev explains why bunny hopping isn’t in the game & if it could be added later ActivisionSledgehammer Games is uncertain why bunny hopping was absent in the initial release of Modern Warfare 3 but hopes to add it to MW3 in the future. The release of MW3 has not been what the community had hoped for. Some features that were missing at launch were the reduced time to sprint after sliding, as well as the addition of a health bar that was featured in the developer’s public Trello board. The act of bunny hopping has been around since the days of Counter-Strike and has only evolved since then. It is a movement done by players to ‘hop’ around and make it unpredictable for the enemies to detect. MW3 developers Greg Reisdorf and Adam Iscove went live on Twitch to maintain open communication between Sledgehammer and the community. During the stream, they addressed some of the community’s most burning questions about MW3. One of which included the question surrounding bunny-hopping. Bunny hopping could make a return in MW3 When asked about bunny hopping, Sledgehammer developer Greg Reisdorf said he was unsure why it wasn’t in the game at launch. But there is still hope for those who missed the bunny hopping from MW 2019. “I wish I had a good reason why [bunny hopping] wasn’t there to begin with,” said Reisdrof. “It’s not there right now, and we are looking to bring it back in some fashion.” Apart from this passing remark, little else is known about the status of bunny hopping. While developers suggest the movement mechanic could make a comeback in the future, nothing official has been discussed. The community’s reaction to the news was mixed on Twitter/X. Some players claimed they ‘hated‘ bunny hopping in previous titles. While others claimed that bunny hopping could fill the void that was left by skill-based matchmaking. “Even though the casuals will cry, it makes for a much better experience,” said one Twitter/X user. “The low SBMM lobbies don’t do it anyway.” While the community expresses a desire for bunny hopping to return in its original form from MW 2019, the developers’ intentions remain uncertain. In the meantime, players will have to rely on slide-canceling as their sole method of movement.

Running from 14 February to 28 February, it’s the last event ahead of the midseason patch. MW3 Season 2 has been packed full of events for fans to enjoy. Cryptid Bootcamp is the latest to arrive, and players are in store for some mysterious surprises. “Fact or fiction? Prove your monstrous might and complete event challenges to earn cryptic rewards. MW3 community raise suspicions as player gets “disconnected” for being too good – Dexerto
MW3 community raise suspicions as player gets “disconnected” for being too good ActivisionHitting incredible multiplayer clips in Call of Duty is a time-honored tradition, but one player’s unbelievable escapade in MW3 inadvertently led to some negative consequences. For those who somehow missed the entirety of early gaming YouTube history, Call of Duty montages were easily one of the most popular forms of entertainment in the medium. They arguably played a huge role in generating enough interest in the competitive side of the game to make today’s global championships viable. Though their popularity has waned in recent years, there are still plenty of recent examples of exceptional Call of Duty players doing what they do best. One such clip is now doing the rounds on social media, thanks to its heady combination of impressive gameplay and the hilarious consequences that followed. Player hits MW3 clip so impressive he gets banned User ItsRomanz posted a video clip on Twitter, showcasing a triple headshot, quickscope collateral kill in MW3. Unfortunately for them, after hitting the multi-kill and taking three other enemies out with headshots in the firefight, they were booted from the game and the Call of Duty servers entirely. This message then quickly changed to confirm the even worse news that the player had been temporarily banned from playing entirely. Faze Blaze shared the clip on his Twitter feed under the heading “Triple headshot collat into 6 on head into dev error is wild,” prompting significant comment from the community in the process. One user shared their similar issue with the game, saying: “I get dev errors when I use too fast of movement or if I’m on a 20+ kill streak.” Others wanted to share their belief that instances like this one point to wider issues within Call of Duty games as a whole, saying: “Sums up every issue with cod these days and this SBMM bullshit. Do something good and it’s not allowed” How long Romanz was banned for is unclear and Activision are yet to respond to the question of how this situation occurred. It may have been that the enemy team mass reported his profile, though this would remain remarkably quick and decisive action if it were the case. With the latest Call of Duty under fire for the shortcomings of its single-player campaign and broader problems with the multiplayer, clips like this won’t do anything to assuage concerns. Whether Activision will do anything to prevent this from reoccurring, remains to be seen.

MW3 community rages as devs stay silent on controversial matchmaking – Dexerto
MW3 community rages as devs stay silent on controversial matchmaking ActivisionCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 players are making their voices heard about the game’s “insanely aggressive” skill-based matchmaking system, yet they’re hearing nothing in return. Skill-based matchmaking (SBMM), a system intended to match players of similar skill levels, has been a polarizing feature in the Call of Duty franchise for years. Now, with the release of Modern Warfare 3, players have been expressing their frustration with the game’s aggressive implementation of SBMM, stating that it detracts from their gaming experience by making matches overly competitive and less enjoyable. The community has been seeking a response from the game’s developers about the game’s matchmaking and took their chance to flood the comments section of a recent AMA with the devs on Reddit. However, as the AMA unfolded, it quickly became clear that Sledgehammer Games had been advised to steer clear of any SBMM-related questions. Despite countless questions and comments from players seeking clarification and expressing their frustrations, the devs remained silent on the matter and refused to give updates regarding the controversial matchmaking system. However, the silence shouldn’t have come as a surprise to fans who have been paying attention. Recently, Repullze, a Call of Duty streamer who hosted a live stream with the creators of Modern Warfare 3, was told that he couldn’t ask about skill-based matchmaking. For now, addressing skill-based matchmaking concerns seems to be completely off the table, leaving many players furious with the game’s current state. However, although Sledgehammer Games developers didn’t address SBMM directly in the AMA, they came close to doing so on one occasion as they revealed plans to test non-disbanding lobbies in a future game update. “In a future game update, we’ll be testing non-disbanding lobbies with a cohort of players to determine the performance of such a change. If these tests go well, we’ll explore a rollout to all players,” they wrote. It remains to be seen whether this change is enough to satisfy the many fans who have been calling for changes, however.

MW3 community celebrate long-awaited disbanding lobbies announcement – Dexerto
MW3 community celebrate long-awaited disbanding lobbies announcement ActivisionMW3 community members praised Sledgehammer Games for announcing they will test out non-disbanding lobbies. Sledgehammer Games has been transparent with community members regarding the studio’s plan for MW3. Over the game’s first few weeks, the devs have rolled out updates to address enemy visibility, inconsistent spawns, and tac-sprint delay. On top of that, the devs joined COD content creator Repullze on stream to answer hard-hitting questions, like revealing the game’s prestige system. To also ensure that community members have their voices heard, MW3 introduces an experimental playlist to test features before they go live in multiplayer. Most recently, Sledgehammer Games hosted a Q&A session on Reddit and responded to other pressing questions. The team didn’t cover every issue presented but finally answered long-awaited prayers to remove disbanding lobbies. MW3 devs address disbanding lobby concerns After a multiplayer match ends in MW3, the lobby disbands and users load into a new match with a different set of players. Previously, classic COD titles kept lobbies together, which added an extra element of community building as players met new friends and rivals. COD fans have been begging for the feature to be removed since COD Vanguard, and their complaints fell upon deaf ears until now. On November 20, Sledgehammer Games announced: “In a future game update, we’ll be testing non-disbanding lobbies with a cohort of players to determine the performance of such a change. If these tests go well, we’ll explore a rollout to all players.” CharlieIntel confirmed the news, and community members celebrated in the comments. One player responded: “OK now we are heading in the right direction for sure. Hopefully this comes sooner than later.” A second user added: “Thank you from the entire community.” To hammer the point home, a third player relived the glory days and argued: “Squads going at each other’s throats, back to back to back games. I’m here for it.” Sledgehammer Games did not clue players in on when they should expect the update. But this will surely be music to the ears of MW3 fans who waited a long time for this announcement.

MW3 casuals frustrated with ‘G-Fuel snorting’ movement players – Dexerto
MW3 casuals frustrated with ‘G-Fuel snorting’ movement players Reddit: Such-Try-3467Players are beginning to question the movement in MW3 after a clip surfaces on Reddit of a player quickly moving around the map. Movement in Call of Duty has always been the topic of discussion, especially when it comes to the release of new titles. Modern Warfare 3 is no exception to this rule as players are already beginning to work around the new sliding mechanics put in place by Sledgehammer Games. The sliding animation and slide-to-sprint speed have already been updated twice since the beta launched on October 6. The most recent update was shortening the delay between when the player behind a slide to when the player begins sprinting again. However, the movement shown in this latest Reddit clip is something completely different. Instead of just using sliding, the user is also continuously moving their weapon, making some wonder where the basics of Call of Duty went. Redditors joke about jittery players as movement takes over MW3 The Reddit thread was originally titled ‘How much gfuel you think this guy had’ before linking a clip of how they died below. The clip starts with the poster attempting to win a gunfight against someone moving extremely fast with no success. It’s when the death cam footage is revealed that people begin to harp on the player’s excessive movement. A couple of people made jokes about the clip, saying that the player was ‘snorting G-Fuel’ or taking ‘lines after every kill’ to stay in the zone. While these comments make light of the clip, others shared the opinions on just how ridiculous movement has become in latest Call of Duty titles. “I don’t know when it happened, but at some point skill stopped being about aim and positioning and became about how spastic you can move in a gunfight,” said one user. “I hate that the devs catered to the people who whined about movement and skill gaps. It just looks ridiculous.” MW3 is still in its early stages of the beta with the game not hitting the shelves for another month. Sledgehammer has already shown that they are willing to listen to the community and could consider movement before the game is released in November.

MW3 player claims road to camo mastery is quicker than past CoD games – Dexerto
MW3 player claims road to camo mastery is quicker than past CoD games ActivisionAccording to one MW3 player, camo mastery is easier to achieve in the latest Call of Duty compared to previous entries. On top of providing weapon decorations, mastery camos (or completionist camos) across Call of Duty games let players showcase their skills. In Modern Warfare 3, each gun features two mastery camos, one from regular multiplayer and the other from Zombies. Unlocking the camos requires players to navigate a series of increasingly difficult challenges, a grind that demanded a huge time investment in previous entries. However, players have found the grind much more manageable this time around. One CoD veteran claims reaching camo mastery in the new Modern Warfare is a relative breeze. The camo mastery grind should feel easier in MW3 Longtime Call of Duty fan and Redditor derkerburgl outlined the camo mastery grind required for every title since Cold War. Based on the player’s “speedrunning” habits, it took them about 100 hours to unlock all completionist camos in Cold War. The same effort in Vanguard similarly required about 100 hours of playtime. In Modern Warfare 2 (2022), time commitment dropped to 60 hours. Apparently, players should spend approximately 48 hours working through Modern Warfare 3’s camo mastery, the user claimed. They went on to add that, despite a few tiresome challenges, “this is by far the fastest… and easiest it’s ever been.” In fact, the Redditor believes everyone should be able to get full mastery this time, so long as they put in the work. In the thread, other players acknowledged that mastery camo challenges have improved with MW3, yet some don’t agree that 48 hours to complete is a good estimate. “I have about 56 hours in so far and I JUST finished leveling MOST of the weapons… I dont think 48 hours isn’t reflective of what people can do right now. I’m thinking it will probably take closer to 72 hours,” replied one person. Either way, the RGL-80 camo challenge constitutes the biggest obstacle, which shouldn’t be a surprise given widespread player requests for its removal. But these difficulties aside, the consensus seems to be that camo mastery in MW3 is the best it’s ever been.

MW3 player kills himself with breacher drone thanks to hilarious “CoD timing” – Dexerto
MW3 player kills himself with breacher drone thanks to hilarious “CoD timing” Activision BlizzardAn MW3 player was killed by their own breacher drone due to a terrible spawn point and classic “CoD timing.” A new lethal equipment item, Modern Warfare 3’s breacher drone managed to quickly gain favor among Call of Duty fans, though some argue it needs a nerf. The lethal works such that activating it will deploy a drone that flies in whichever the player previously aimed in. From there, the drone’s proximity-based capabilities take charge, exploding whatever or whomever it comes into contact with next. It’s no joke as a dealer of heavy damage, which players typically love. However, one unfortunate user recently learned why the breacher drone should probably come with a warning. MW3 player is accidentally killed by their breacher drone Reddit user cwhack shared gameplay footage of their recent misfortune while playing Modern Warfare 3. The short video shows the player deploying a breacher drone before getting gunned down by an enemy. It’s probably a common occurrence. Hopefully, what happens next doesn’t transpire too often for others in MW3. As soon as the Redditor respawns, they land right in the path of their recently activated drone. They die yet again, this time by their own hand. The unfortunate cross-map self-own earned plenty of laughs in the Reddit thread. One person commented, “I’ve seen this type of clip 3 times and it never gets any less funny.” Someone else noted, “That’s just CoD timing with extra steps.” Others said they’ve similarly faced a horrible fate because of Modern Warfare 3’s troublesome spawn points. One user admitted, “I have cross map shock sticked myself way more than I care for.” “Cod sure loves turning your freshly thrown explosives into spawn points,” said someone else pointing out the ongoing flaw. Players should take this as a warning to be more mindful of their surroundings before activating the high-powered drone.

MW3 Blaze Up event: Start Date, Parkour mode, more – Dexerto
MW3 Blaze Up event: Start Date, Parkour mode, more ActivisionMW3’s Blaze Up event is fast approaching to celebrate all things 420 Day, so here is all you need to know about its start date, its limited-time modes, and rewards. CoD’s Season 3 events are shaping up to be some of MW3’s most interesting of the year, as it wraps up its Godzilla x Kong crossover, devs are raring to start its 4/20 takeover, filled to the brim with marijuana references of course. Alongside Cheech and Chong skins and their incredible tracer pack bundle, here is everything you need to know about MW3’s Blaze Up event. MW3 Blaze Up start date MW3’s Blaze Up event starts on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, which is the same time Warzone’s 4/20 event, High Trip, starts as well. Although the devs have yet to officially confirm when the event will end, onsidering the Cheech and Chong bundle releases on April 20, aka 420 Day, and its theme, it will likely still be around till then. MW3 Blaze Up Parkour game mode First uncovered by a dataminer, G3T HIGH was found in Season 3’s update files which revealed a parkour game mode on the way to test players in a unique environment. According to the leakers, the mode pits players against each other in a parkour map in which players will race to the top, with the first one winning. However, it should be noted that the devs have not confirmed G3T HIGH’s involvement in the Blaze Up event, however, considering its theme and name, it’s most likely a lock. MW3 Blaze Up rewards and challenges MW3’s Blaze Up event will feature several challenges and rewards for players to complete and collect, which was confirmed in CoD’s blog post on Season 3. However, we won’t know the full list of rewards and challenges that are coming with the event just yet. But, generally, we can always expect Weapon Stickers, Double XP tokens, and normally a Blueprint or Camo that is exclusive to the event. We will update you here when we know more.

MW3 players blame overpowered one-shot kill JAK Cataclysm kit for ruining multiplayer lobbies – Dexerto
MW3 players blame overpowered one-shot kill JAK Cataclysm kit for ruining multiplayer lobbies ActivisionModern Warfare 3’s latest conversion kit, the JAK Cataclysm, transforms the RPK into a one-shot kill .50 cal rifle, and multiplayer fans are split over whether it should be nerfed. In Warzone, the JAK Cataclysm conversion kit is well on its way to making the RPK one of the most popular weapons in the battle royale. With a headshot mixed in, the kit is capable of downing enemies in two shots, and has everything needed to rival the Kar98k and MORS. But while the conversion kit is strong in Warzone, it’s even more dominant in multiplayer. The JAK Cataclysm one-shot kills enemies from the stomach and up to 35 meters and one shot from the chest and up at all ranged. FaZe Scope posted a clip on Twitter, effortlessly killing eight enemies with the conversion kit in short succession. The highlight reel made its way to Reddit, and players voiced concerns over the dominant one-shot kill weapon being too overpowered. “Snipers in multiplayer are all one-shot in MW2 except a few. The problem people have is the insanely fast ads speed of snipers in MW3 and hardly any flinch.” If sniper rifles had more flinch and slower Aim-down sight speeds, the JAK Cataclysm conversion kit wouldn’t be as strong. Arguments also pointed out slower time-to-kill speeds in MW3 as part of the problem. Sledgehammer Games listened to community feedback and made the TTK slower than MW2, but it has a downside that makes specific weapons stronger. “People wanted the longer TTK to increase the skill gap, and it did. The thing is that certain weapons, like snipers and one-shot shotguns, don’t work like that,” a second user added. A segment of the player base slightly pushed back against TTK being the problem, claiming that this is all done strategically to keep users invested and returning every day. “The problem isn’t the high TTK; the problem is that the developers are either idiots at weapon balancing or purposefully release broken, overpowered weapons to keep engagement up.” Regardless of the precise issue, players want the JAK Cataclysm nerfed before it becomes even more popular. If players want a weapon to counter the new conversion kit, check out our guides on the best loadouts in MW3 Season 5.

MW3 players are already complaining Season 1’s Assassin Vest is “OP” Ghost perk – Dexerto
MW3 players are already complaining Season 1’s Assassin Vest is “OP” Ghost perk ActivisionMW3 Season 1 will introduce a new Assassin Vest, complete with stats that make players worry it’ll become an overpowered Ghost perk. Modern Warfare 3’s Season 1 content arrives on December 6, ringing with it the Urzikstan map, Swarm and EMP Killstreaks, and a new chapter for Zombies. Ranked Play will also enter the mix in the middle of the season, with new rewards, updated maps, and more set to keep players busy for the long haul. Needless to say, Call of Duty faithful seem as eager as ever to dive in. However, one forthcoming addition, in particular, is already being viewed as a stumbling block – the new Assassin Vest. MW3 players call upcoming Assassin Vest an OP Ghost perk In a Twitter/X post, CharlieIntel called attention to the Assassin Vest slated to hit Season 1 of Modern Warfare 3. The account pointed out that kills won’t display skulls when the vest is equipped. Notably, the new armor will also be immune to UAV and enemy radar, even while the player remains stationary. Players are already up in arms about the news, calling out developers for throwing in an “OP version” of the Ghost perk. “This is the new ghost,” one person wrote with a crying emoji. Reads another popular comment in the replies, “They couldn’t resist not giving campers the free ghost perk… This is absolutely unnecessary.” Other comments about MW3’s forthcoming Assassin Vest aren’t any more hopeful, with one user arguing that advanced UAVs will soon be rendered “useless.” Someone else lamented, “So people can just sit in corners again and stay off the UAV? What the actual f**k?” While this particular bit of Modern Warfare 3 news isn’t going over well, players may have a brighter outlook once the content arrives. If not, it’ll be interesting to see if and how developers respond.

MW3 AR that everyone hates actually has fastest TTK in Warzone – Dexerto
MW3 AR that everyone hates actually has fastest TTK in Warzone ActivisionOne of Modern Warfare 3’s most ignored assault rifles actually has the “best TTK” in Warzon, and there aren’t any funky tricks that you need to get it. Over the last few weeks, the Warzone meta has undergone a fair amount of changes. The Season 4 Reloaded update put a big dent in the KAR98K and Superi 46 dominance, Modern Warfare 2 guns have got some love, and there are plenty of new guns in the mix – including some underrated options. The likes of the Rapp H, STB 556, and M16 have all been highlighted as top options in the battle royale, and they’ve now been joined by the Sidewinder. Yes, the assault rifle that everyone loves to hate, actually has one of the best Times to Kill in all of Warzone. That’s according to WhosImmortal, anyway, as he highlighted it once again. “This thing, clearly, in its first damage range, which obviously you can extend out with certain attachments, clearly the best – it is significantly better than any other rifle,” the YouTuber said in his July 7 video, noting that you will have to be aiming down sight a lot of the time. “Yeah, it falls off a little earlier but then mid-range, it’s super competitive and ultimately overtakes everything else and becomes the best TTK rifle in this group of them, which is considered to be the main meta rifles. Also, headshots on here? Crazy headshot multiplier!” Muzzle: Tempus GH50 – Underbarrel: Bruen Pivot Vertical grip – Optic: Corio Eagleseye 2.5x – Ammunition: 450 Huntsman High Grain – Magazine: 30-round drum – WhosImmortal added that the rifle has been meme’d a lot over the last few months, and it can be “awkward” to use, but “if you can land shots with it, you can put in some work.” As the YouTuber notes, the Sidewinder has been laughed at forever, but it’s not a million miles away from the meta at the minute. And, it has started creeping up the WZRanked popularity charts too, sitting as the 25th most popular gun. The AR should absolutely be used a bit more, so if you’ve got it leveled up enough, give it a chance.

Underused MW3 AR “better than ever” as an SMG in Warzone with rapid TTK – Dexerto
Underused MW3 AR “better than ever” as an SMG in Warzone with rapid TTK Treyarch/ActivisionA previously dominant Modern Warfare 3 Assault Rifle is “better than ever” in Warzone as an SMG with a rapid Time to Kill, but a lot of players are overlooking it. The Season 4 Reloaded update for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone really threw a spanner in the works for the battle royale’s meta. The KAR98K and Superi 46’s dominance was hit in a big way as the iconic Call of Duty rifle was nerfed quite significantly. That nerf has seen the KAR98K replaced by a number of weapons from MW3, with a battle brewing between a few MW3 SMGs to be named the best gun in the game. Contenders for that title include the Superi 46, FJX Horus, and Striker, but there’s another that you need to consider – the BP50. The previously dominant Assault Rifle was highlighted by Warzone guru WhosImmortal, as he believes it is “better than ever” right now when set up as an SMG. “This thing is capable of holding its own and now the fact it’s been updated to be a true SMG, it is better than ever in my opinion,” the YouTuber said in his July 13 video. “ The key to that change? That would be the JAK Revenger kit. According to WhosImmortal, it becomes “ridiculously, ridiculously strong” but you become “limited” with attachments as you switch focus to being an SMG. Muzzle: Sonic Suppressor – Laser: Kimura RYL33 Laser – Ammunition: 9mm High Grain – Rear Grip: TRST-IV Grip Tape – Conversion Kit: JAK Revenger – On top of his own endorsement, the BP50’s stats back up WhosImmortal’s claims too. In fights up to 15 meters, it outguns the FJX Horus, Superi 46, and Striker with a 559 ms TTK. The Assault Rifle-turned-SMG is on the fringes of the meta right now, with WZRanked having it as the 11th most-popular gun in the game. That should creep up before long, so jump on board.

MW3 AR dominates Warzone with “broken TTK” better than meta guns – Dexerto
MW3 AR dominates Warzone with “broken TTK” better than meta guns ActivisionThere’s an Assault Rifle in Modern Warfare 3 that appears to have a “broken TTK” is one of the most powerful options in Warzone. That’s right, it’s the Ram-7. Over the past few years, Warzone has had its fair share of broken weapons with an almost instant TTK – Time To Kill. The DMR ran roughshod over Verdansk for a while, as did the Mac-10 Gallantry blueprint, and the days of the Lockwood shotgun aren’t too far behind us. The devs have, at times, managed to curb these weapons but it ends up being a game of whack-a-mole. As soon as one weapon is knocked off its perch, another rises up and the meta moves over there. In the current iteration of Warzone, the MTZ Interceptor has been dominating things – so much so that the devs have promised to tweak it. However, it’s the Ram-7 that should also be a cause for a concern. Best Ram-7 Warzone loadout for Season 1 in MW3 That’s according to Warzone guru WhosImmortal, who highlighted the Assault Rifle as having a “broken TTK” and “zero recoil” with a few tweaks to the usual builds. “The Ram-7 fries,” he said, pointing out that it has a TTK of 681m/s in gunfights up to around the 35-meter mark. It, naturally drops off a little after that, but it still outguns the Bas-B with a TTK of 868m/s. “This is kind of a busted set-up, definitely by far the number one rifle in the game and it’s not particularly close,” he added. Muzzle: VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor – Barrel: XRK Coremark 40 heavy barrel – Underbarrel: Bruen Heavy Support grip – Magazine: 60-round drum – Stock: Hunker-5 Stock pad – Now, the Ram-7 has proven to be popular since being introduced in the Season 1 battle pass, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone who’s used it that it is up there with the best of the best. Whether or not it goes under the microscope for changes anytime soon, though, remains to be seen. So, you may as well use it to your advantage for now.

MW3 AR actually outguns meta Superi 46 in Warzone with one change – Dexerto
MW3 AR actually outguns meta Superi 46 in Warzone with one change ActivisionOne of Warzone’s most popular assault rifles actually outguns the Superi 46 when it’s built like an SMG, and could be the perfect replacement once Season 5 rolls around. Ever since the start of Season 4 in Modern Warfare and Warzone, the Superi 46 has dominated the SMG meta. It was, for a long time, paired with the KAR98K too, but the marksman rifle’s nerf has killed that duo a bit. Despite the FJX Horus and Striker rising up the ranks, the Superi has retained its spot as the go-to SMG in Warzone. There have been a fair few complaints from players about it making the meta quite stale, with many players urging nerfs come the start of Season 5. If you’re one of those players who falls into the category of being bored of the Superi’s dominance, well, you may want to give the MCW with its JAK Raven Conversion Kit a whirl. According to Warzone expert Metaphor, the assault rifle’s conversion helps it act like an SMG and actually outguns the Superi’s rapid TTK. “You will beat Superi’s with this thing. This thing is totally viable. It’s actually a good gun,” the YouTuber said in his July 21 video, noting he’s been looking for Superi replacements and this fits the bill. “This thing is actually solid and if you haven’t given it a try yet, go for it. You will not be disappointed.” Barrel: Kimura Blackthorn – Underbarrel: XRK Edge-4 Handstop – Magazine: 40-round mag – Stock: JAK Cutthroat – Conversion Kit: JAK Raven – As noted, Season 5 of Warzone is just around the corner, and there will be another raft of buffs and nerfs that affect the battle royale’s meta. With the Superi dominating for so long, it’s probably going to get nerfed a fair bit, so you’ll want to be ahead of the game with this loadout. So, give it a go – it’s clearly a dominant option.

MW3 and Warzone Ranked Play back online after bug resets player progression – Dexerto
MW3 and Warzone Ranked Play back online after bug resets player progression ActivisionThe Ranked Play mode for both MW3 and Warzone is back online after fixes have been implemented to remedy a bug causing player progression issues. Ranked Play modes are a big hook for both MW3 and Warzone players, as they can present a more competitive challenge and unlock unique rewards. So when a bug that was halting ranked progression appeared overnight, Call of Duty players began to worry. Now, the issue has gotten so out of hand that the modes have been taken offline while the devs are trying to find a fix. CoD Ranked Play down after player progression resets Call of Duty Updates announced on X, that there was a bug preventing progression from being tracked properly and the developers were investigating the issue. The progression bug in question saw player accounts being reset back to Level 1, while also taking away all the rewards they had unlocked in events, battle passes, and more. ❗️ #MW3 #Warzone #ModernWarfareZombies #MW3RankedPlay — Call of Duty Updates (@CODUpdates) February 23, 2024 We’re working on a fix for a known issue that appeared overnight that is preventing progress from being tracked in various areas of the game including but not limited to events, challenges, Battle Pass, and SR. As one frustrated Warzone player said, “Issues like that don’t just ‘appear.’ At least just be honest and say you broke the game by pushing a shadow update you didn’t plan on notifying the player base about.” This follows a trend of frustration from both MW3 and Warzone players, who feel that their games are on a downward trajectory. From spawn issues, balancing problems, and now Ranked Play being taken offline, the player base is getting fed up with the game. Ranked Play modes have been brought back after fixes have been implemented by the developers. Players may have to restart their application to refresh the modes.

MW3 and Warzone are entering the ring with a WWE collab in Season 5 – Dexerto
MW3 and Warzone are entering the ring with a WWE collab in Season 5 ActivisionActivision confirmed that MW3 and Warzone Season 5 starts on July 24 and also gave players a first look at an upcoming crossover with the WWE. It’s hard to take away much from the six-second teaser that Call of Duty provided for the upcoming collaboration with the WWE, but there are a few nuggets worth pointing out. At the end of the trailer, we see shadows of three wrestlers which could hint at new operator bundles. While it’s not clear which WWE superstars they are just by looking at the silhouettes, fans in the comment section made it clear who they want added. Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, Macho Man Randy Savage, and John Cena are the most popular choices from fans in the replies. Fans also suggested The Rock, Jeff Hardy, Randy Orton, and CM Punk as perfect candidates. Since Cena recently announced that 2025 will be his last year in the ring, this crossover would be a fitting sendoff for one of the most decorated wrestlers in history. Whoever Activision chooses, there is a myriad of excellent choices that will generate buzz. In Season 4, Call of Duty surprised fans with a Fallout crossover event and a Gundam collab featuring new operator bundles, limited-time game modes, and other cosmetic items, but it’s not known if similar content will be included in the WWE collaboration. Up until now, Raven Software and Sledgehammer Games have remained tight lipped on what’s coming in Season 5. We expect there will be a blog post next week going over all of the new features coming to MW3 and Warzone in Season 5 based on how previous updates have been handled. The only significant Season 5 leak was a Deadpool crossover, but CharlieIntel confirmed that that rumor was not true, and WWE will be the only collaboration event

It’s no secret that every weapon in Modern Warfare 3 comes with stats directly impacting aiming, accuracy, and the like. Various attachments let players refine these stats to their liking as they progress, yet some aspects of the experience can’t be adjusted. The problem is that many think the latest Call of Duty entry goes out of its way to make aiming feel bad overall. Content creator TrueGameData recently uploaded a video explaining why. According to the YouTuber, the responsible parties include aim movement reticle shift, aim sway starting point, and strafe reticle shift, the latter of which is apparently the “main” issue. Players paying closer attention to these troubles are calling for a change. MW3 want devs to get rid of the “disgusting” aim sway feature After watching TrueGameData’s video, a Modern Warfare 3 user expressed their frustrations in a lengthy Reddit post. Noting that they were “absolutely disgust[ed]” by the YouTuber’s findings, the Redditor added, MW2 had “extreme visual recoil, that’s now toned down but now we have extreme aim sway and camera bobbing.” The player especially feels slighted by the aim penalties when strafing since they like to strafe and shoot but seldom land their shots. “This isn’t CS:GO, we don’t want aim penalties when strafing and we sure as hell don’t want extreme aim sway when aiming,” they continued. Unsurprisingly, many of their fellow Redditors agree with this sentiment. One person responding to the post called out the ridiculousness of reticle bobbing. They wrote, “Yeah, the reticle bobbing around when I look left and right is ridiculous. I don’t know how that made it into the game, but it’s a joke.” On the topic of aim sway, another MW3 player stated, “I often max out sway stats because recoil is better than RNG.” Interestingly, someone else further in the thread argued that attachments are the reason why these features exist. “They’re adding things like this into the game so they can also make attachments that counteract it and call it new content.” Another user added to the chorus by lamenting how even the new gun cock animation regularly causes their demise in Hardcore mode. The original poster replied, “That gets me killed in core Shipment, as well. It’s incredibly annoying.” As of now, it’s unclear if developers plan on addressing these complaints in future MW3 updates.

MW3’s frustrating aim bug keeps getting players killed – Dexerto
MW3’s frustrating aim bug keeps getting players killed ActivisionMW3 players keep encountering a frustrating bug that won’t let them aim properly with a controller or on mouse and keyboard. The mid-season update for MW3 Season 2 went live for all platforms on March 6, introducing new weapons, Aftermarket Parts, and seasonal events. Season 2 Reloaded also added an array of balance adjustments, with about two dozen weapons receiving nerfs and buffs. Unfortunately, not all players have been able to enjoy the update’s various additions and changes, thanks to a glitch that’s throwing off their aim. MW3 players report aim bug after Season 2 Reloaded update A user named OfficialNotSoRants detected the aim glitch and shared proof on the MW3 subreddit. In the short gameplay clip, the gun appears to jerk upwards at random on multiple occasions. This bizarre glitch gets the player killed near the end of the video. The Redditor explained that these “random upward jerks” occur when using the right stick. “It also happens on [mouse and keyboard].” They claimed that turning off MW3’s aim assist function doesn’t help either, as it apparently only makes things worse. This particular MW3 player isn’t the only one encountering the frustrating aim bug. Several people – using controllers and MnK – said this error occurs for them when respawning. One such comment noted that it’s not an issue related to stick drift. “This happens from time to time for me too. Sometimes like right when I spawn and I am not even moving my right stick yet. Different than stick drift for sure.” A mouse and keyboard user stated, “Oh it drives me nuts. Every time I respawn.” Elsewhere in the thread, another MW3 player said it mostly happens when they’re using a shotgun. “This very often happens for me when I respawn as well. I notice it happens more often when I use a shotgun.” These comments and numerous others all seem to have one common denominator – spawning. Hopefully, MW3’s developers can identify the problem and issue a fix for the aim bug sometime soon.

MW3 players slam AFK bots for “ruining” their lobbies – Dexerto
MW3 players slam AFK bots for “ruining” their lobbies Activision BlizzardCall of Duty: MW3 players are shocked by how many AFK bots they keep encountering while playing various game modes. AFK bots, or away from keyboard players, have long been an issue in Call of Duty titles. They’re typically used as a means for farming XP in modes without a player actually having to participate in the in-game action. Some people like to speed up the XP grind by employing this often frowned-upon technique. Meanwhile, others long for the day when AFK bots will finally be removed in full. Such talk didn’t stop with the recent release of Modern Warfare 3. In fact, players seem shocked by how often they’re running into AFK bots in lobbies. MW3 players say AFK bots are “ruining” game lobbies As previously mentioned, AFK bots are far from a new problem in the world of Call of Duty. However, fans seem to have noticed an uptick in the number of bots crowding game lobbies. One player asked fellow users in a recent Reddit post, “anybody else noticed an insane amount of players AFK on gunfight?” A couple of people replied that they had noticed the issue, with one calling it “annoying af.” Others argued that it’s likely people “AFK’ing the battlepass.” And someone else noted that the original poster should probably take advantage of lobbies like this, since they can be good for knocking out MW3’s camo challenges. In a separate Reddit thread, an MW3 player shared footage of half a dozen AFK bots running around a concentrated area and shooting at the ground. “AFK bots ruining lobbies,” the caption read. The user added, “Not really sure how this is even a thing.” While some said they’ve yet to run across this many bots, others argued they’re likely accounts “created to boost and sell.” Still, some tend to believe that the divisive skill-based matchmaking is at fault. In either case, it would seem Call of Duty’s AFK bot problem isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

MW3 2011 caught in review-bombing crossfire by confused CoD players – Dexerto
MW3 2011 caught in review-bombing crossfire by confused CoD players ActivisionMW3’s early access campaign has players so furious that they’re negatively reviewing 2011’s Modern Warfare 3, seemingly mistaking it for the new title. Community sentiment around Modern Warfare 3 has been a mixed bag. The multiplayer beta put those feelings on full display, as fans love the return of the fan-favorite maps but despise the graphical state of the game. As the full launch inches closer and closer, fans have been getting their hands on the campaign via early access. The reception has been less than stellar, as fans feel it’s “Warzone with cutscenes.“ It seems the campaign’s delivery has upset some fans on a level beyond explanation. In an attempt to voice their displeasure, they’ve gone and review bombed the wrong MW3. Angry CoD players review bomb 2011’s MW3 2011’s Modern Warfare 3 currently sits at an 88 overall on the game’s Metacritic page. However, an influx of negative user reviews has flooded the game’s Metacritic page. It currently sits at a 3.5, with over five thousand negative reviews recently submitted. “There’s no true real content that will require a new game, nothing different here for $70.00+ that they couldn’t just release /patch for in the previous version of the game,” one player said in a scalding review left back in August of this year, way before any portion was playable. While most of the negative reviews have seemingly been removed, WarzoneIntel caught more scathing reviews. It’s important to note, this year’s MW3 isn’t up for reviews yet since it’s only in early access. Unfortunately, some fans can’t wait until the full launch to voice their opinion. As more players get their hands on the game, expect a real Metacritic page to populate, where the reviews will certainly be a battlefield. For now, steer away from 2011’s Modern Warfare 3, as it did nothing wrong but share a name with this year’s divisive entry.

MW2’s Season 3 update breaks Ground War with players stuck in half-empty games – Dexerto
MW2’s Season 3 update breaks Ground War with players stuck in half-empty games ActivisionThe Season 3 update for MW2 and Warzone 2 has broken Ground War with players struggling to find full lobbies, among other issues with the mode. Ground War is one of Modern Warfare 2‘s battle modes that supports large-scale fights with two teams of 32 going head to head. It offers a different experience from the traditional 6v6 multiplayer and has become popular as a result. Ground War first appeared in Modern Warfare as a reimagined version of what used to be Call of Duty’s 9v9 multiplayer mode. Its scaled-up mayhem has its own appeal but right now people aren’t getting the opportunity to play it as intended. MW2 Ground War games broken in more ways than one Since Season 3 went live some players have noticed that something isn’t quite right with Ground War. Lobbies are struggling to maintain players and often finish with half-empty games. Several Reddit posts have mentioned the issues with Ground War’s matchmaking with one user going as far as to label it “completely broken,” with multiple bugs arriving with the Season 3 update. It isn’t just the empty lobbies that are frustrating some players either. Since the update Ground War only rotates through two maps, Rohan Oil Fields and Zaya Observatory. Sattiq Cave Complex, one of the new battle maps that was supposed to arrive in Season 3, is currently not showing up. On top of those two issues Ground War is also being affected by one more bug. Friendly player indicators only show up when teammates look directly at each other. This can result in players mistaking friendlies for enemies and even potentially assuming an enemy is friendly. Neither Activision nor Infinity Ward has yet to address the issues with Ground War. It is currently unknown if these bugs will be fixed or when fans of the game mode will be able to play it again in its intended state.

MW2’s new reporting system will let Infinity Ward mute toxic players’ voice chat – Dexerto
MW2’s new reporting system will let Infinity Ward mute toxic players’ voice chat ActivisionIf you are a Call of Duty veteran, you know how vulgar in-game chat can be. In light of that, Infinity Ward is ramping up its efforts to crack down on toxic behavior in MW2. In September, Activision announced they banned over 500,000 Call of Duty accounts and forced 300,000 to change their names. The developers also revealed a new Code of Conduct, and every Modern Warfare 2 player has to acknowledge it before proceeding into the game. Call of Duty’s new Conduct includes three core values; treating everyone with respect, competing with integrity, and staying vigilant. Modern Warfare 2 introduces a reporting system for the first time in series history, which should make staying vigilant an easier task. MW2 adds new systems to combat toxic players On November 7, Infinity Ward announced an in-game reporting system and new features to combat toxicity in MW2. The developers confirmed MW2’s moderation team will be able to mute players globally from all-in-game voice chat and can restrict text chat if they are deemed to engage in offensive behavior. MW2’s in-game reporting system lists reasons for reporting a player. Cheating – Text Chat- Spam – Text Chat- Offensive – Voice Chat- Offensive – Username- Offensive – Clan Tag- Offensive – Infinity Ward stated, “we know that in-game situations are not always one-size-fits-all, so our reporting system now allows players to provide context to their reports.” No release date was explicitly mentioned, but the developers said we should expect it to be implemented alongside the Warzone 2 launch later this year. We will update you when we know more about the feature and how it will work in-game.

MW2’s early campaign release is so popular fans hope future games follow suit – Dexerto
MW2’s early campaign release is so popular fans hope future games follow suit ActivisionCall of Duty Modern Warfare 2’s campaign launched a week early, and fans want the developers to make it a permanent tradition. Players who pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2 received an early opportunity to play through the campaign on October 19. Unfortunately, issues on PC and console prevented players from accessing the game mode as intended right away, but it’s since received some big praise. We played through the campaign and called it “another solid entry in the franchise.” However, we also claimed that “the single-player experience falls short of making an impact.” Despite a turbulent launch, players praised Activision’s decision to release the campaign before the full game, and some community members want the developers to follow suit for future titles. Modern Warfare 2 fans praise developers for releasing campaign early Reddit user Sunapr1 said, “I think the Activision decision to release the campaign early was a great decision. Should it be the norm for any Call of Duty game from here on? Call of Duty games always deliver plenty of content for players to sink their teeth into, but it’s always a tough decision on what to play first. Campaign often falls by the wayside for players who only play multiplayer, but this new model incentivizes every player to at least try the single-player experience. One player responded, “I normally play the campaign anyway, but I always have my friends wanting to play multiplayer asap. Even my multiplayer friends have played it and enjoyed it this time.” A second user added, “it fixes the number one issue with CoD campaigns: exposure and time to breathe away from the multiplayer. I think this should be the norm now, and it’s just a genius move from IW.” MW2 officially launches on October 28, and players who didn’t pre-order will have the opportunity to play through the campaign themselves.

MW2 YouTuber maxes out every sniper rifle to give best class loadout – Dexerto
MW2 YouTuber maxes out every sniper rifle to give best class loadout Charlie INTELModern Warfare 2 YouTuber Stodeh maxed out every Sniper Rifle, and the LA-B 330 stood out as his favorite. Here’s why you should give the underrated sniper a try for yourself. If you are familiar with Battlefield content, you have probably seen clips of Stodeh pulling off amazing sniping montages. The YouTuber knows his way around a Sniper better than most, and his skills translated perfectly to CoD. Stodeh dominated Warzone amid Battlefield’s well-documented decline, and Modern Warfare 2 provides a brand new stomping ground. MW2 features four Sniper Rifles at launch, and five 32v32 maps, which are perfect for long-range engagements. After testing every Sniper Rifle, Stodeh explained why the LA-B 330 is his favorite and how it excels in Ground War specifically. Stodeh maxes every Sniper in Modern Warfare 2 Stodeh claimed to reach the max level on every Sniper Rifle in around 20 hours of gameplay. He believes the LAB-330 is the best sniping option and his loadout “maximizes one-shot kills anywhere on the body consistently across all ranges.” Players unlock the LA-B 330 by reaching Level 18 on the SA-B under the Bryson 800 Series Platform. While designing the best possible loadout, he focused on maintaining a high fire rate, fast aim down sight speed, a clean scope, and fast velocity. Here is the full loadout Barrell: 23.5″ Fluted R-67 Lazer: FSS OLE-V Lazer Optic: SZ Bulleyes Optic Stock: ZLR T70 Pad Extension Comb: Aim-Assist 406 Stodeh opted against using a suppressor because red dots don’t show on the mini-map unless there is a UAV up. “All the snipers in this game are ridiculously strong, especially in the large-scale maps.” Give this loadout a try for yourself in Ground War and eventually in Warzone 2 for optimal sniping performances.

Modern Warfare 2 players blast devs for XP farming “getting out of hand” – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 players blast devs for XP farming “getting out of hand” Activision BlizzardMW2 users are blasting Call of Duty developers for the XP farming issues currently plaguing the game’s Infected mode. Players employ methods of AFK farming in numerous online games where grinding has become a headache above all else. Some Grand Theft Auto Online users rely on this method of grinding to earn in-game cash and RP. The passive XP-gaining trick was a tool used in the original Call of Duty: Warzone, too. It’s a facet of the modern multiplayer experience that many have come to begrudgingly accept. In certain cases, though, AFK farming seems to have gotten way out of hand. MW2 XP farming is taking the fun out of Infected mode Reddit user ViperSWE recently found themselves unable to enjoy a game of Infected because most of their fellow Modern Warfare 2 players weren’t actually playing. “This is getting out of hand,” the user wrote for a video caption whose content showed about half a dozen MW2 players erratically spinning in circles. Such strange behavior is indicative of a user or, in this case, several users AFK farming to grind for XP boosts without doing the work. As far as some players are concerned, Modern Warfare 2 developers are partially at fault for the current state of things. In response to a question about why MW2 fans are XP farming this way, one person said it’s “because people don’t want to grind a battle pass that takes an incredibly tedious amount of time to finish.” However, it seems the more pertinent question is why players are grinding this way in Infected mode. Apparently, AFK farming in “DMZ is a much better method of grinding tokens.” Some Redditors argue that Infected doesn’t require anyone to “babysit” their controller when grinding. Queuing up the game and walking away is ideal, after all. Unfortunately, this means those who actually want to enjoy Infected to the fullest are at a loss.

MW2 & WZ2 Season 3 trailer confirms long-awaited game modes – Dexerto
MW2 & WZ2 Season 3 trailer confirms long-awaited game modes Activision shared the first MW2 and WZ2 Season 3 trailer, revealing several highly-anticipated multiplayer and battle royale game modes. Activision has sprinkled in a few announcements leading up to Season 3, which starts on April 12. The developers revealed two new operators, the Intervention sniper, and a classic map remake. Community members also received a first look at Ricochet anti-cheat changes, emphasizing cheaters in competitive game modes. A replay investigation tool allows the developers to watch back WZ2 and MW2 matches to weed out cheaters, and Cronus Zen devices will finally be detected on controllers. These innovations coincidently come right before Season 3, which we now know includes Warzone 2 Ranked. Gunfight, Plunder, WZ2 Ranked, and Al Mazrah Resurgence coming in Season 3 On April 5, Activision revealed the first trailer for Season 3, and it was jam-packed with new announcements. Season 3 adds new multiplayer maps, Gunfight, Cranked, Al Mazrah Resurgence, Plunder, Warzone Ranked, and Blackcell. Starting with Gunfight, the popular 2v2 multiplayer mode pits two teams against each other in matches that play similarly to the Gulag. Next up is cranked, which is a team deathmatch multiplayer game mode. Whenever a player gets a kill, they earn faster movement speed, reload, and ADS speeds. Each kill starts a 30-second timer, and players need to get a kill within that time frame, or they explode. Resurgence deviates from the traditional Warzone formula, allowing players to respawn during the opening stages of matches. Plunder also provides a unique battle royale experience as players race to earn the highest amount of cash, instead of chasing kills. And finally, we expect Warzone Ranked to share a slight resemblance to MW2 Ranked Play, but there’s been no explanation from the developers on what to expect. Activision also revealed the title “Blackcell” in the trailer, but we aren’t quite sure what that entails. We will provide an update when the developers unveil an official roadmap for Season 3.

MW2 weapons just got a huge buff in MW3 & Warzone – Dexerto
MW2 weapons just got a huge buff in MW3 & Warzone ActivisionModern Warfare 2 weapons just received a huge buff in Warzone Season 3 that will finally give them a genuine chance to compete with their MW3 counterparts. Since Modern Warfare 3’s launch in November 2023 and its later integration into Warzone, MW2 weapons have fallen by the wayside with very few being worth using. Outside of rare exceptions like the TAQ-V and STB 556, the majority are simply outclassed by MW3 guns. However, Season 3 looks to change that with every Modern Warfare 2 weapon receiving a monstrous buff. As detailed in the patch notes, this buff is as follows: “Decreased obstructive VFX while firing MWII Weapons to align with MWIII standards.” – The result of this buff is that the visual recoil and weapon shake MW2 weapons has been greatly reduced, now aligning with how the newer guns introduced in Modern Warfare 3 perform. This change is huge with it being one of the community’s most demanded requests. It will not only make Modern Warfare 2 weapons easier to use and much more consistent but also allow you to use old blueprints without handicapping yourself. In multiplayer this change will make several MW2 weapons more viable, but in Warzone it may very well birth a brand new meta entirely. All of a sudden, those assault rifles and battle rifles that were too difficult to use at long range are now just as accessible as meta options like the MCW and RAM-7.

MW2 & Warzone Oct 23 patch notes: Lockwood 300, TR-76 Geist & Kastov 762 nerfs – Dexerto
MW2 & Warzone Oct 23 patch notes: Lockwood 300, TR-76 Geist & Kastov 762 nerfs ActivisionThe Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone devs dropped a weapon tuning update that nerfs a few of the game’s most popular weapons. Warzone community members praised The Haunting event for reinvigorating life into the game amidst a wave of hype for Modern Warfare 3. However, COD players realized how much they love MW3 after returning to MW2 post-beta. Players took issue with the devs decreasing WZ’s Massive Resurgence player count to 100 from 150. Then, frustrations escalated when the devs doubled down and credited the change to community feedback. And players questioned the decision not to include any weapon balancing in the initial Haunting update. One-shot shotguns, the Kastov 762, and TR-76 Geist arguably overstayed their welcome and dominated matches for weeks. Infinity Ward heard the criticism and finally responded. MW2 Warzone map will reportedly feature classic maps like Favela & Terminal – Dexerto
MW2 Warzone map will reportedly feature classic maps like Favela & Terminal ActivisionNew Warzone Pacific map Caldera hasn’t even arrived yet, but players’ sights have already been set ahead to the launch of Call of Duty 2022 — rumored to be titled Modern Warfare 2 — and a Warzone map that could be bringing fan-favorite classic locations with it. A sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare, leakers have suggested that Modern Warfare 2 will be the name of Infinity Ward’s 2022 title, rehashing the name of one of the most popular Call of Duty games in the franchise’s history. A lot has changed in CoD since then, but most notable is the launch and insane popularity of battle royale title Warzone, which has helped branch the game out to an even wider audience. According to reports, the planning for a new Modern Warfare 2 2022 Warzone map is already underway — and veteran players will feel right at home with it. MW2 remaster in Warzone 2022? As reported by insider Tom Henderson via VGC, Modern Warfare 2 will release alongside a brand new map for Warzone and will be comprised of various classic points of interest. The report states: “Locales from the original Modern Warfare 2 will be expanded upon and stitched together, creating a massive new map. This is likely to include a significantly expanded version of Favela, and other classic arenas such as Afghan, Quarry, Terminal, and Trailer Park.” Read More: Warzone x Vanguard Season 1 revealed – The report also states that there’s no clarity on whether the new map will replace Vanguard’s Caldera, or whether it will be playable alongside it. VGC say that “Activision has previously been hesitant to offer multiple maps in the game, based on analysis of other battle royales such as PUBG and Fortnite.” This news will be music to the ears of long-time CoD players who have been calling for a MW2 remaster, and could do just enough to satiate that thirst.

MW2 & Warzone August 8 update patch notes: UAV bug fix, UI changes, more – Dexerto
MW2 & Warzone August 8 update patch notes: UAV bug fix, UI changes, more ActivisionInfinity Ward rolled out a small update on August 8 that finally addresses Modern Warfare 2’s lingering UAV bug. Modern Warfare 2 expert TheXclusiveAce discovered a game-breaking UAV bug after the Season 4 update. Only Advanced UAVs can track an enemy’s movement in real-time as they move around the map, but a bug also allows standard UAVs to do the same. The bug presented a serious issue because it only takes three kills to get a standard UAV but 12 for an Advanced UAV. To make matters worse, the bug randomly appeared and showed no signs of consistency. In the Season 5 update patch notes, the MW2 devs claimed to fix the functionality of UAVs, but TheXclusiveAce confirmed that issues persisted after the update. Infinity Ward heard the complaints and doubled down. Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer UAV bug finally fixed in Season 5 TheXclusiveAce struggled to pinpoint a cause of UAVs not working properly in Modern Warfare 2. After extensive testing, the YouTuber narrowed it down to three behaviors. UAVs either worked correctly, red dots moved for a very short period of time, or dots moved for about two seconds. In the August 8 update, Infinity Ward said: “Fixed an issue where using a weapon with an Integrated Suppressor will ping a Player’s location on the minimap with an active enemy UAV despite Ghost being active.” It remains to be seen if this fixes every UAV issue in multiplayer but, hopefully, it resolved the primary issue. Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone August 8 update patch notes Here are the full Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone August 8 update patch notes. MW2 & Warzone 2 May 31 update patch notes: Cronen Squall & ISO Hemlock nerfs, more – Dexerto
MW2 & Warzone 2 May 31 update patch notes: Cronen Squall & ISO Hemlock nerfs, more ActivisionOn the same day as the start of the World Series of Warzone Qualifiers, Infinity Ward nerfed the most popular weapon in Warzone 2 after an outcry from community members. The ISO Hemlock dominated Warzone 2’s meta for most of Season 2 and the first half of Season 3. The easy-to-use AR held a comfortable lead in popularity rankings, but on May 31, the Cronen Squall took over with a staggering pick rate of 18%. JGOD tested the Cronen Squall and labeled it as “absolutely broken,” because its Time-to-kill speeds competed with the game’s best SMGS while also shredding through enemies at range. The Cronen Squall’s time under the sun didn’t last long, as it saw nerfs across the board on the day it became the most popular weapon in the battle royale sequel. Cronen Squall and ISO Hemlock receive hefty nerfs The ISO Hemlock didn’t receive too many nerfs, but Incedinary rounds do reduced damage to armor after the update. As for the Cronen Squall, the powerful battle rifle saw reduced damage range, headshot multiplier, and maximum damage per shot against armor. Infinity Ward also increased semi-auto recoil and decreased the fire rate in semi-auto mode. Players will still have no issue picking apart enemies in single-fire mode, though this change should limit its capabilities in short to medium-range engagements. We won’t know how substantial these nerfs are until WZ2 experts get their hands on these weapons and test the difference. MW2 and Warzone 2 May 31 patch notes Here are the full May 31 patch notes. Global Weapon adjustments ISO Hemlock Reduced damage to armor using all 5.56 ammunition | Warzone 2.0 Only – – Cronen Squall Reduced damage range – Reduced headshot multiplier – Small increase to recoil in semi-auto mode – Small reduction to rate of fire in semi-auto mode – Reduced maximum damage per shot against armor | Warzone 2.0 Only – – Global bug fixes Fixed an issue where the Player would see edit options for their secondary weapon instead of their primary while editing a Loadout in-match – Fixed an issue causing the “mute self” icon to appear incorrectly in the channel list – Fixed an issue causing the “Rock and/or Roll” War Track to be unavailable in the Vehicle customization menu – Fixed an exploit on Santa Seña where Players could get inside geometry and under the Map in Ground War – [Ranked Play] Fixed an issue that allowed matches to cancel later than intended. – Warzone 2 General The competitive ruleset for Private Matches has been updated to match the most current version of Warzone Ranked Play. – Ranked Play Deployment fees are now displayed in the pre-game lobby. – Fixed an issue where Warzone Ranked Play Seasonal Rewards would not show in the After Action Report when earned – Fixed an issue causing Match Cancel text to overlap and display incorrectly – Fixed an issue where SR for the final kill was not being awarded – Fixed an issue that allowed players to enter into a match as an incomplete squad once the countdown timer had begun. – DMZ Fixed an issue where equipping under-barrel attachments on the STB 556 would make the icon in the Loadout menu not show portions of the weapon. – Fixed an issue where exiting the Firing Range could result in Weapons and Blueprints appearing incorrectly –

How to save custom builds in MW2 & Warzone 2 – Dexerto
How to save custom builds in MW2 & Warzone 2 Activision BlizzardThe new Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 updates stealthily added the option to save custom builds – here’s how it works. Activision’s deployment of Season 1 Reloaded for MW2 and Warzone 2 comes packed with a whole host of noteworthy changes. For one, the iconic Shipment map has returned for the Modern Warfare sequel’s multiplayer component. Meanwhile, Warzone 2 received a Stronghold count increase, in addition to balance adjustments for enemy AI. And players of both have been introduced to the new Groups social feature, courtesy of Season 1 Reloaded. The newly released update boasts a few quality-of-life improvements that developers left out of the patch notes, however. Most notably, players MW2 and WZ2 users can finally save their custom builds. Here’s how to save your custom MW2 and Warzone 2 builds Utilizing the new feature seems simple enough, given that it only requires a few steps. While customizing the weapon whose build they’d like to save, players can find a new “Save Custom Mod” tab on the screen’s bottom-left corner. Clicking the aforementioned button will open a save box in which users can name the weapon. Information featured in the box itself suggests five “Saved Weapons Slots” are available at this time. Popular streamer JGOD shared footage of the MW2 and Warzone 2 custom builds option in action. Though this marks a welcome addition to the two shooters, saving custom builds should have been incorporated from the start as JGOD noted. After all, this particular option was pretty standard fare in Call of Duty titles of the past. Why it didn’t launch with Modern Warfare 2 and the Warzone sequel is anyone’s guess.

MW2 snipers receive huge buff in Warzone Season 5 update – Dexerto
MW2 snipers receive huge buff in Warzone Season 5 update ActivisionThe Modern Warfare 2 sniper rifles are receiving a big buff after the Modern Warfare 3 & Warzone Season 5 update, bringing them more in line with the MW3 snipers that dominate the current battle royale meta. Throughout recent seasons, the Kar98k and, to some extent, the MORS, have been hugely popular in both Urzikstan and resurgence maps such as Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep. They’re quick, unlike traditional snipers, and can allow you to easily pick off opponents from distance without having to get too involved in the mix of players pushing close-quarters gunfights. Most importantly, though, they have the ability to knock enemies with just one bullet, meaning they can be absolutely lethal without having to shred through ammo — and now the Modern Warfare 2 snipers are set to be the same. As mentioned in a creator call according to CharlieINTEL, Modern Warfare II snipers will one-shot without the need for explosive rounds in a later update, though this wasn’t confirmed in the Season 5 patch notes. The snipers from last year’s game are: MCPR-300 – Signal 50 – LA-B 330 – SP-X 80 – Victus XMR – FJX Imperium – Carrack 300 – As it stands, the MCPR-300, FJX Imperium, Victus XMR can one-shot in Warzone, but they require explosive rounds for that extra bit of damage — now that’s set to change. It’s unclear when exactly the update is due to take place to buff these guns, but it could signify a shift in the Warzone meta away from complete Kar98 domination and bring more weapons into the fold. There are already some Modern Warfare II guns that are somewhat viable in the meta, such as the Lachmann Shroud or the VEL 46, but that list could grow after this sniper change. Be sure to check out all the weapon buffs and nerfs that have already happened in the Season 5 update, with potential meta shifts in waiting.

MW2 SMG dominates MW3 guns in Warzone with “incredibly quick” TTK – Dexerto
MW2 SMG dominates MW3 guns in Warzone with “incredibly quick” TTK ActivisionWarzone expert WhosImmortal has highlighted a Modern Warfare 2 SMG that has an “incredibly quick” TTK and can compete with some of the meta picks from Modern Warfare in the battle royale. Over the past few years, the different iterations of Warzone have become a melting pot for a number of different CoD titles. That can make weapon balancing a bit of a chore, especially when some games have different health values in multiplayer. We’ve seen that be the case again in this new Warzone update through Modern Warfare 3, with many players being annoyed that some fan-favorite guns from the previous release – Modern Warfare 2 – are just far too underpowered. Well, that doesn’t appear to be the case for at least one SMG – the ISO 9MM – as Warzone expert WhosImmortal has got it up there with some of the best guns in the game right now. Best ISO 9MM loadout in Warzone for Modern Warfare 3 That’s right, if you’re looking for a different SMG to run in Warzone, you may want to revisit the ISO 9MM and its “incredibly quick” TTK in close-range fights. “The ISO 9MM is by far the best MW2 SMG, in my opinion. You can run and gun with this thing and its TTK is incredibly, incredibly quick in those first 10 meters there, so this thing is definitely a banger for those purposes,” WhosImmortal said in his January 1 video. It should come as no shock then that the YouTuber’s build is all about speed and hipfire accuracy. That’s why it uses the Shadowstrike Suppressor, VLK LZR 7Mw laser, and EXP Shear rear grip. The 50-round drum magazine also makes an appearance. Muzzle: Shadowstrike Suppressor – Laser: VLK LZR 7Mw – Optic: Slate Reflector – Magazine: 50-round drum – Rear Grip: EXP Shear – As noted, the ISO thrives in that first 10-20 meters of damage, and trying to do anything beyond that is just going to be a waste. It remains to be seen if it’ll hold a place in the meta for the long term, especially with weapon balancing updates coming, but for now, it’s a great option.

How to get Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr. & Paul Pogba MW2 Operator skins – Dexerto
How to get Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr. & Paul Pogba MW2 Operator skins ActivisionActivision confirmed Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr, and Paul Pogba Operator skins are coming to Modern Warfare 2 during Season 1. Here’s everything you need to know about getting the new football skins. Call of Duty made plenty of waves with ambitious crossovers during Vanguard. Including bundles for, Attack on Titan, Terminator, and Godzilla vs. King Kong. Each event received varying degrees of criticism, so Activision returned to the drawing board for Modern Warfare 2. MW2 brought out the big guns, using a-list celebrities for its marketing campaign, and flooded every medium with big-budget trailers. Things didn’t stop there as a leak revealed big-name football stars coming as Operators. On October 27, leaked photos of Paul Pogba and Neymar skins surfaced. Activision confirmed Messi, Neymar, and Pogba Operator skins are coming to Modern Warfare 2, Warzone 2, and CoD Mobile. Here’s how to purchase the limited-time Operators. Trailers On November 24 Call of Duty shared a trailer for the event on YouTube. MW2 football Operators release date Getting in the World Cup spirit, Activision is hosting a Modern Warfare FC event during the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Activision is releasing three separate limited-time Bundles. Neymar Jr and Paul Pogba are available now, and Lionel Messi will be added on November 29. MW2 Shoot The Ship playlist could be coming back in future update – Dexerto
MW2 Shoot The Ship playlist could be coming back in future update Infinity Ward teased a potential return of Modern Warfare 2019’s fan-favorite Shoot the Ship playlist in Modern Warfare 2. Modern Warfare 2 re-introduced Shoot House and Shipment in Season 1. Both fan-favorite multiplayer maps always garner attention because they offer fast-paced gameplay perfectly suited to grinding camos. The developers added a 24/7 Shipment playlist at the start of Season 1 Reloaded, and community members bashed the decision to remove it in early January. Infinity Ward heard the backlash loud and clear, adding back a Shipment playlist. In a perfect world, community members wanted a way to have both Shipment and Shoothouse simultaneously. Modern Warfare 2019 provided just that with Shoot the Ship, a 24/7 playlist alternating between the two environments. After much speculation, the developers finally hinted at a return for the playlist. Infinity Ward tease Shoot the Ship in MW2 poll On January 24, Infinity Ward Tweeted a poll with the eyes emoji. As of writing, over 66,000 fans voted. Shoot the Ship received 48% of the vote, 41.4% for Shipment, and Shoothouse only received 10.6%. CoD content creator Zachdubs responded, “if you don’t vote shoot the ship, you shouldn’t be allowed to play CoD.” Not all community members fully supported Shoot the Ship, as FaZe Jev claimed, “Shoot the Ship is always 90% Shoothouse, 10% Shipment. Please adjust the likelihood of Shipment being the selection.” PrestigeisKey added, “We already experienced this exact same situation in MW2019, so I’m ready to move on and do something new in Multiplayer.” Despite a few content creators voicing negative opinions, the poll shows a definitive interest in the playlist returning. We will provide an update if the beloved playlist is added at some point to Modern Warfare 2.

MW2 Shoot House map plagued by “atrocious” invisible wall bug – Dexerto
MW2 Shoot House map plagued by “atrocious” invisible wall bug ActivisionThe Modern Warfare 2 community celebrated Shoot House’s reintroduction, but a game-breaking glitch, unfortunately, spoiled the proceedings. Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 launched alongside Warzone 2 on November 16. The massive update finally allowed players to track their stats, Shoot House, and rebalanced weapons. Season 1 didn’t launch without a few hitches. Activision delayed the CDL Moshpit playlist, and a Social menu bug made it an infuriating process trying to invite friends to a Warzone 2 match. MW2 players hoped for a bit of respite queuing up on the beloved Shoot House map, but they were instead met with a head-scratching bug, making the map unplayable. Invisible wall glitch breaks Shoot House Shoot House was a fan-favorite map in Modern Warfare 2019. The close-quarters map was the perfect stomping ground for grinding weapon camos or chasing nukes. The duo of Shoot House and Shipment formed one of the most popular CoD playlists in series history, “Shoot the Ship.” Activision reskinned Shoot House and gave the environment a brand new look and feel for MW2, but a bug ruined players’ first impressions. A Reddit user shared a video showing a player trying to shoot and throw projectiles on Shoot House, but an invisible wall prevented anything from going through. The player claimed, “there’s also one in the upstairs building you can’t even walk through.” One user responded, “this is ridiculous. Did they do no play testing on it?” A second player added, “these aren’t little tiny wall exploits where you can jump on tiny spaces up a couple of railings and boxes on some obscure corner of the map, these are massive, blatant bugs that there is zero percent chance you could miss if you playtested it.” The Modern Warfare 2 community’s patience is running thin, and they are demanding changes soon.

MW2 rifle has “utterly insane” TTK in Warzone but there’s a catch – Dexerto
MW2 rifle has “utterly insane” TTK in Warzone but there’s a catch ActivisionOne of Modern Warfare’s 2 most unique rifles has an “utterly insane” TTK in Warzone and is a top mid-range option for the meta. However, there is one big drawback. At the start of the Modern Warfare 3 Warzone cycle, many players were concerned that weapons from the previous games – Modern Warfare 2 – wouldn’t be able to impact the meta at all. That hasn’t been the case, however, as a number of MW2 guns have proven to be rather strong. Following recent updates, the likes of the M13C, Tempus Torrent, and STB 556 have all gotten some love thanks to their strong TTKs (Time to Kill) at different ranges. As a result, some Warzone fans have continued to look for other options from MW2, and stats guru WhosImmortal may have just found another that has an “utterly insane” TTK. Best FTAC Recon loadout in Warzone for Modern Warfare 3 The weapon in question? That would be the FTAC Recon. The Warzone expert highlighted the battle rifle in his February 25 video, noting that it is one of the most “overpowered” guns in the game. However, there is a catch to it. “One of those that I think is truly a bit underrated, maybe for some valid reasons, but for others this could be a serious contender as a top TTK option – the FTAC Recon,” the YouTuber said. “This thing’s TTK is utterly insane over the mid-range area and even the long-range area where you’re going to be using this the most. If you can be extremely accurate with a weapon like this, you’re going to decimate everyone, it’s just a higher skill gap weapon that we have in the game.” Muzzle: VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor – Underbarrel: Bruen Heavy Support – Optic: Corio Eagleseye 2.5x – Magazine: 15-round mag – Stock: PSO Heavy – Timestamp of 0:30 The only drawback and catch with the Modern Warfare 2 rifle is the small ammo capacity. You’ll only have a 15-round mag, but the Recon packs a serious punch if you can overlook that. It remains to be seen if it can match some of the other MW2 guns that have come back into the thinking for the Warzone meta, but it’s clearly an option for some.

MW2 rifle has “insane” Warzone TTK but it’s totally ignored – Dexerto
MW2 rifle has “insane” Warzone TTK but it’s totally ignored ActivisionThere is a rifle from Modern Warfare 2 that has an “insane” TTK in Warzone, but it’s still being slept-on by pretty much everyone. When the Modern Warfare 3 cycle first got underway, many of the guns from Modern Warfare 2 were deemed pretty “unusable” by players. This became even more apparent when the MW3 integration with Warzone launched, as MW2 weapons were completely left behind. That has changed in recent updates, with the likes of the TR-76 Geist and FR Avancer being hyped up by a few players. The M16 with the JAK Patriot Conversion Kit has become the go-to weapon recently as well. Well, there is another MW2 gun that’s in the conversation as one of the best options in the battle royale – and that’s the Tempus Torrent. The Marksman Rifle was highlighted by Warzone guru WhosImmortal in his May 20 video, who said it has an “absolutely nuts” TTK. “It’s not often that MW2 weapons can be called meta or even overpowered for that matter, but this is one that has got a TTK that is absolutely nuts,” he said, noting that it has a 570 ms TTK in fights up to 42 meters. The catch with the Torrent, however, is that it is a semi-auto gun, so you need to be accurate and take care with your shots. “It’s got a higher skill gap, to sort of keep it in check, but there’s no denying that if you can three, four, five shots consistently, you are going to absolutely obliterate anyone in your sights,” the YouTuber added. Muzzle: VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor – Underbarrel: Bruen Heavy Support – Optic: Corio Eagleseye 2.5x – Magazine: 50-round drum – Ammunition: 7.62x51mm High Grain – The Warzone meta will undergo a bit of a shake-up when Season 4 arrives, as we’ll get a new round of buffs and nerfs to the current crop of weapons. Hopefully, it is further good news for weapons from MW2, as they’ve proven to be excellent options recently.

MW2 rifle has “broken” TTK to dominate Warzone but there’s a catch – Dexerto
MW2 rifle has “broken” TTK to dominate Warzone but there’s a catch ActivisionThere is a battle rifle from Modern Warfare 2 that has a “broken” TTK in Warzone and can truly dominate, but there is a pretty big catch with it. Over the years, Warzone has had its fair share of broken weapons. Some have been overpowered because of weapon blueprints, others just haven’t been balanced properly, and others have benefitted from glitches with attachments. Weapon balancing had been an issue when the battle integrated with Modern Warfare 3, as guns that carried forward from MW2 were underpowered. Changes have since been made, following fans voicing their frustrations about some of them being “unusable,” and that’s led to an uptick in usage. As a result, players have found some weapons that have a bit more power than they’d first believed, with the FTAC Recon being a prime example. The MW2 battle rifle was highlighted by Warzone guru WhosImmortal, who claimed that it has a “broken” TTK. However, that does come with a big caveat – its ammunition capacity. “If you’re talking purely broken TTK, this thing is almost unmatched at every single range – especially its close and mid-range as sniper support style stuff – this thing is unbeatable,” the YouTuber said. “It’s a battle rifle, so you’d think it has decent ammo capacity, but no. Not at all, not whatsoever,” he added, noting that there is a maximum of 15 rounds per mag, so you’ll be “reloading like crazy.” But, land those shots and you will delete enemies from the lobby. Muzzle: VT-7 Spiritifre Suppressor – Underbarrel: Bruen Heavy Support – Optic: Corio Eagleseye 2.5x – Magazine: 15-round mag – Stock: Demo Precision Elite – Timestamp of 6:42 WhosImmortal added that the FTAC Recon is perhaps a more “broken” option for solos or duos, just because of that limited ammo capacity. Yet with the number of knocks you’ll get anyway, you can easily have other teammates clean up in other modes too. So, give it a go.

MW2 rifle dominates with crazy TTK in Warzone but no one uses it – Dexerto
MW2 rifle dominates with crazy TTK in Warzone but no one uses it ActivisionOne of Modern Warfare 2’s most powerful battle rifles “fries” in Warzone with a deadly TTK, but pretty much everyone is sleeping on it right now. When Modern Warfare 3’s Warzone update first launched, it wasn’t a surprise to see weapons from the new release immediately jump into the top spots in the meta. They were, at one point, the most powerful guns in the game and pretty much everyone was trying to level them up. Fast forward, and, well, the meta has become pretty diverse. Sure, we still have SMGs, assault rifles, and a few LMGs ruling the roost, but they aren’t all from Modern Warfare 3. There are a fair few Modern Warfare 2 weapons that have proven themselves to be more than competitive choices – especially after the Season 1 Reloaded update. So, if you’re one of those players who wants to revisit the MW2 guns, then you may want to take a look at the FTAC Recon as the battle rifle has one of Warzone’s best set of Time to Kill stats. Best FTAC Recon loadout in Warzone for MW3 That’s according to Warzone expert WhosImmortal after he highlighted the battle rifle in his January 28 video as one of the fastest-killing guns in the battle royale. “This has a 716 m/s TTK to about 47 meters and its damage ranges are insane. There isn’t a super significant harsh drop-off,” the YouTuber said. “It’s another high-skill weapon, you’ve got to land your shots to be good, but if you can it is going to fry.” The only knock on the FTAC Recon in terms of the loadout is its small magazine size, and that’s even after using one of your attachment slots to bump it up to 15 rounds. Muzzle: VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor – Underbarrel: Bruen Heavy Support – Optic: CorioEagleseye 2.5x – Stock: PSO Heavy – Magazine: 15-round mag – Timestamp of 6:50 The battle rifle does have a bit of a bouncy recoil but if you’re picking off enemies and allowing the gun to recentre when firing, you should be able to find the rhythm of it pretty quickly. While it is a high-skill weapon, you shouldn’t be scared off from giving it a try at least – you might find yourself falling in love with its power.

MW2 ranked play: Skill-based matchmaking explained – Dexerto
MW2 ranked play: Skill-based matchmaking explained ActivisionSkill-based matchmaking (SBMM) continues to be controversial in Call of Duty and gaming, but does MW2 Ranked Play use it? Here’s everything you need to know about Ranked Play SBMM. Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play scratches the competitive itch for players looking for more than a normal public match. Ranked Play uses the Call of Duty League ruleset, which restricts certain guns, equipment, and killstreaks. Additionally, the mode features a limited pool of game modes and map combinations. Players climb the ranks and earn new Skill Divisions by winning matches. CDL pros have made it their mission to earn a spot in the illustrious top 250, but some have already abandoned Ranked Play due to rampant cheating. Community members have also raised concerns over the mode’s unbalanced matchmaking system, so let’s take a deep dive into how SBMM works in MW2’s Ranked Play. How does skill-based matchmaking work in MW2 Ranked Play? In Ranked Play, players gain and lose SR based on whether they win or lose a match. Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play uses a Skill Rating system and seven Skill Divisions, going from Bronze up to Iridescent. Skill-based matchmaking in Ranked Play restricts who you can team with, based on their Skill Division. However, it does not account for said Skill Ratings for opponents. Here are the party restriction rules. Bronze through Platinum players can party up with no restrictions. – Diamond and Crimson players can only form parties with and play against other players within two Skill Divisions. – Iridescent and Top 250 Players can only form parties with and play against other players within one Skill Division. – Why are MW2 players unhappy with Ranked Play’s matchmaking? Despite these changes, MW2 players are displeased with how Ranked Play matches teams. Because SBMM does not account for opponents’ Skill Divisions, it can lead to extremely unbalanced matches. For instance, a frustrated MW2 player posted an image on Reddit of three silver players and a gold player going up against a squad comprised of one gold, two diamond, and one silver ranked user. One player responded, “Playing against plats as silver/bronze is making me want to quit ranked.” A second community member added, “This is the one mode where it should be easy to do skill-based matchmaking – just put people in the same rank in a game together. And yet.” Just as the case with matchmaking in Modern Warfare 2’s casual multiplayer mode, Treyarch is tight-lipped about its matchmaking system for Ranked Play. But players are certainly hoping some of these issue are resolved in the future.

MW2 Ranked Play: Map Pool, Skill Divisions & Rewards – Dexerto
MW2 Ranked Play: Map Pool, Skill Divisions & Rewards ActivisionRanked Play in MW2 builds on its predecessors offering one of the most in-depth competitive game modes in Call of Duty history. MW2 Ranked Mode gives players a chance to compete in a more official capacity than regular multiplayer which is designed to be accessible more so than competitive. The aim of Ranked Play is to organize similar skill players into divisions, allow them to compete against each other, and advance players that come out on top. Climbing the divisions to earn mode exclusive rewards and content. It plays very differently from any other MW2 game mode, restricting numerous loadout options, including most weapons and killstreaks. This is done to ensure a more competitively balanced competition and minimize the randomness of each gunfight. Anyone looking for the perfect Ranked classes should check out our guide here. Contents MW2: Ranked Play map pool – MW2: Ranked Play permitted weapons – MW2: Ranked Play Skill Divisions – Ranked Play seasonal rewards – MW2: Ranked Play map pool Ranked offers a very different experience than regular public matches. One of the reasons for this is that only specific combinations of game modes and maps appear in rotation. These combinations are based on the CDL ruleset that is used in MW2’s professional league. These are the game modes and maps that are currently available in Ranked Play: Search and Destroy: El Asilo – Embassy – Al Bagra Fortress – Breenbergh Hotel – Mercado Las Almas – Hardpoint Embassy – Al Bagra Fortress – Zarqwa Hydroelectric – Breenbergh Hotel – Mercado Las Almas – Control El Asilo – Himmelmatt Expo – Breenbergh Hotel – MW2: Ranked Play permitted weapons In addition to a limited map pool, MW2 Ranked Play also limits what weapons players can use. Instead of placement matches, every player starts as a Bronze ranked player. Users move up by acquiring the minimum amount of Skill Rating required for each Skill Division. Upon reaching a new rank you cannot be demoted immediately as Demotion Protection offers a safety net. Skill Rating Forgiveness is a new feature that prevents team members from losing any Skill Rating if a teammate disconnects or quits in the middle of the match. If a player disconnects or quits in the middle of the match, all team members outside of that player’s party will not lose SR. A player’s highest Skill Division placement decides the rewards they earn and where they will start for the next season. At the start of a new season all players will be deranked down one tier below where they finished last season. Here are the seven Skill Divisions and the required Skill Rating for each. Bronze – 0-899 SR – Silver – 900-2,099 SR – Gold – 2,100-3,599 SR – Platinum – 3,600-5,399 SR – Diamond – 5,400-7,499 SR – Crimson – 7,500-9,999 SR – Iridescent – 10,000 SR+ – Additionally, the Ranked leaderboards show the Top 250, meaning that the players with the highest Skill Rating in the game will have their names and ladder position shown off on the Ranked Play leaderboard. Pro players have a unique marking on the leaderboard that shows what organisation they play for to make keeping track of the world’s best MW2 players easier. MW2 potentially removing Breenbergh Hotel map due to legal issues – Dexerto
MW2 potentially removing Breenbergh Hotel map due to legal issues ActivisionActivision could soon remove the Call of Duty Breenbergh Hotel map from Modern Warfare 2 after legal issues surface due to similarities between the design and one five-star hotel in Amsterdam. It’s no secret that real-life events and locations inspire plenty of Infinity Ward’s campaign and map designs. However, in Modern Warfare 2, those similarities have been forcing Activision to take down maps after legal action was taken. The first map to be eliminated after the Beta was that of the Valderas Museum after its similarities with the Getty Museum in California caused an array of legal battles against the game. Now, the Breenbergh Hotel map is in jeopardy after the hotel it’s based on spoke out against being unwillingly added to the first-person shooter. MW2 could remove Breenbergh Hotel map after ‘unwanted involvement’ The design of the Breenbergh Hotel map is based on a five-star hotel in Amsterdam called the Conservatorium Hotel. After finding out this fact, the hotel manager spoke out to Volkskrant about their “unwanted involvement” in Modern Warfare 2 and how they were clearly not consulted or asked before this map was created. The manager explained that the hotel doesn’t ” support games that seem to encourage the use of violence” going on to say that Modern Warfare 2 “in no way reflects our core values and [they] regret [their] apparent and unwanted involvement.” Currently, there is no word on whether the Conservatorium Hotel will be taking legal action. This bout of legal action from the Getty Museum and potentially the Conservatorium Hotel is not the only element of unwilling inspiration seen in Modern Warfare 2. In fact, it’s been reported that Call of Duty pros currently can’t play the new Crown Raceway map after potential legal issues due to its similarity with the Marina Bay Grand Prix Formula 1 race track in Singapore. There has been no confirmation regarding any current legal action being taken for the Breenbergh Hotel map.

MW2 players want two “annoying” challenges to never return to CoD – Dexerto
MW2 players want two “annoying” challenges to never return to CoD ActivisionThe Modern Warfare 2 community wants two weapon challenges removed from MW2 and to never return to CoD, Longshot kills and Kills From Behind. Grinding for mastery gun camos has been an important part of Call of Duty‘s multiplayer since the original Modern Warfare, released in 2007. Newer entries have innovated on the camo grind with some introducing mastery camos exclusive to each game mode and others having time-limited camos only available during seasonal events. With each camo grind the devs have to come up with new challenges but players have now grown tired of two that have seen repeated use throughout MW2. MW2 players dislike Longshot and Kills From Behind challenges Modern Warfare 2 players have taken to Reddit to complain about two reoccurring weapon camo challenges, Longshots and Kill From Behind. The post reads: “I like challenges, but these are the two worst and most annoying. Longshots destroy multiplayer because everybody is camping and you can’t move, and people equip the Riot Shield so Kills From Behind are even more annoying.” Agreeing with the post, one user responded: “The problem is Longshot opportunities on most maps are very narrow lanes that nobody travels through. You are forced to camp the only viable lane and hope someone comes by.” Another fan had an alternative vision for how challenges should work: “Making challenges based around playing the objective (i.e. get x Defend medals using x gun) would fix some major things that make the game bad right now.” One reply complimented the current event for doing camo challenges better: “I’m with you, but for the current event challenges they at least put them on weapons that make sense. Longshots for marksman/snipers and backstabs for melee.” Orion, the mastery camo in MW2 requires over 1,100 Longshots as part of the Platinum section of the grind. Meanwhile, Kills From Behind challenges are less prevalent but are still required for a select few weapons including the Riot Shield. Adding to that, the new Trophy Hunt Event camo challenge asks players to get another 55 longshots with specific weapons. This is in addition to other challenges that require Operator Kills, Kills From Behind, Headshots, and Hipfire Kills.

MW2 players want “long overdue” customization option for Operator skins – Dexerto
MW2 players want “long overdue” customization option for Operator skins ActivisionModern Warfare 2 players are calling for a “long overdue” customization option for their Operator skins, with many feeling that the “game begs for it.” Modern Warfare 2 is ever-changing. Its constant updates provide a variety of weapons, new metas, updated Operators, and plenty of content for players to sink their teeth into. However, this doesn’t stop fans from having innovative ideas regarding new elements that could be placed into this popular fast-paced FPS game. One player showcased their own idea for a new customization option for Operators, stating that “Operator customization is long overdue.” Such an idea was immediately met with overwhelming agreement with many highlighting their love for the design and begging MW2 to implement it. MW2 players suggest innovative customization for Operators Posting to Reddit, one Modern Warfare 2 player attached a video of an operator with a series of patches being added to their clothing. Along with the video, they explained how “Operator customization is long overdue.” and how they “believe this will be revolutionary for the next game in the franchise and other upcoming games of Call Of Duty series in total,” promoting their idea to implement patches onto operators, helping those display their passions or designs in a subtle yet effective way. Shortly after posting, the MW2 community flooded to the comments to show their support for the idea, with some stating how the “game begs for it,” and that the idea “has the potential of being really great.” Interestingly, such customizable options for Operators are not new to Call of Duty, with Advanced Warfare giving players the ability to change their Operator’s clothing. One player highlighted this, going on to say that it was “Sad to see a game that is almost 10 years old have better customization options than the last four entries.” Naturally, many players began speculating how Activision would implement such an idea, with one fan explaining how “it’ll end up being in a battle pass and in bundles just like charms.” Others explained their concerns, worried that “as much as I like this idea, it just gives Activision more excuse to bundle extra crap and artificially inflate the ‘value’ of their bundles.” While others argued that “having a patch of your calling card and emblem would be badass, and also make them a little more valuable in bundles.” Regardless of whether they’d suit well in bundles or how they would be advertised, one thing is for certain, the Modern Warfare 2 community would love the implication of patches for their favorite Operator.

MW2 players want beloved Black Ops 1 Combat Record to replace “buggy” system – Dexerto
MW2 players want beloved Black Ops 1 Combat Record to replace “buggy” system ActivisionModern Warfare 2 players are calling for the return of the beloved Black Ops 1 Combat Record after the “buggy” system causes users to reflect on the “simplicity” of previous UI’s and stat trackers. With a new Call of Duty game coming out every year, it’s to be expected that the developers will slightly alter how players experience both combat and the UI. After all, as gaming develops, so does the quality of the Combat Record and the measure of particular stats as you play. However, with the release of Modern Warfare 2, and now that we’re into Season 2 Reloaded, many players are calling for change. In particular, they are calling for the return of the beloved Black Ops 1 Combat System after the “buggy and transactional” MW2 design has left many disappointed. Modern Warfare 2 players call for beloved Black Ops 1 Combat System to return Taking to Reddit, one Modern Warfare 2 player shared their nostalgia regarding the beloved Black Ops 1 Combat System. They explained how popular the feature was and how “poor stat tracking is nowadays in CoD,” highlighting the popularity of what many regard to be one of the best UIs in Call of Duty history. Many players agreed with the player’s statement, with a number of commenters exploring how the UI seems to have gotten worse. One fan took the statement further, stating that “the OG Cods really were better due to their simplicity. Everything is so buggy and transactional now” highlighting the simple yet effective nature of both viewing your Combat Record and navigating the UI. Other fans shared the same sentiment, agreeing that “the new UI is just so bad” and going on to explain how its main problem is that the MW2 system is “so hard to navigate” with the older games having “a much better and simpler UI.” On the other hand, some were quick to remind the original poster that “we have all of these exact stats now” going on to highlight that the only issue is “that the UI is awful” commenting on how many struggle to navigate the new system and find the stats they desire. It seems many fans miss the Black Ops 1 system for its simplicity and ease of navigation. Whether we will get a simpler Combat Record system in future titles is yet to be seen.

MW2 players urge those who have left not to return for Season 2 – Dexerto
MW2 players urge those who have left not to return for Season 2 ActivisionModern Warfare 2 players are urging players who have put the game behind them not to bother coming back to the game, despite the new content coming in Season 2. Modern Warfare 2 launched in October 2022 and quickly became the fastest-selling game in the Call of Duty franchise, breaking all kinds of records despite a somewhat mixed reception from players. Now, four months later, Season 1 is finally reaching its end as the delayed Season 2 is due to start on February 15. Despite that, and with some exciting new content promised, current players have some advice for those who have stopped playing and might be tempted to return: don’t. “If you stopped playing already, don’t come back now,” said AltGunAccount on Reddit. “Seriously. If you already stopped playing because Season 1 was weak and post-release support sucks, don’t come back for S2. Let the developers know they aren’t doing enough. Don’t buy bundles, don’t buy the new battle pass, don’t even log back in. Not like you’re missing much anyway, you’ve already played museum and dome.” Many of the comments were in agreement, too, citing issues with the direction the game has gone in, including the overall “games as a service” that has become particularly popular. Others said that they’ve been “ disappointed 60% of the time I boot this game up,” or pointed out that “S2 is literally content that was in the beta, but got removed during launch.” Whether or not Modern Warfare 2 does see an uptick in players once Season 2 launches remains to be seen but, at this point in time, many current players are particularly frustrated with the direction the game has gone.

MW2 players upset as Throwback Audio Pack doesn’t include iconic sniper – Dexerto
MW2 players upset as Throwback Audio Pack doesn’t include iconic sniper ActivisionMW2 players are disappointed after Activision revealed that the Throwback Audio Pack would only add gun sounds for two weapons and neither are the FJX Imperium. It was first announced that classic gun sounds would be coming to Modern Warfare 2 in April through the Throwback Pack: ’09 Weapon Audio Bundle’. The bundle promised to bring back old-school gun sounds from the original Modern Warfare 2 that launched in 2009. However, more details have now been released about the audio pack and fans aren’t happy with the guns included. MW2’s Throwback Audio Pack won’t include the FJX Imperium Modern Warfare 2 fans have taken to Reddit to complain about the guns chosen for the Throwback Audio Pack. The audio bundle will include two weapons, the ‘Lachmann Classic’ SMG and ‘Good Ol Days’ Assault Rifle. These will both be weapon blueprints that produce classic gun sounds when fired. The main weapon missing that has upset fans is the FJX Imperium, MW2’s rendition of the Intervention sniper rifle. The Intervention is considered by a lot of classic fans as the most iconic COD weapon of all time. Frustrated by the bundle, one user responded: “They could’ve easily made bank on reintroducing a whole SUITE of OG sounds, like f**k, the Intervention (most iconic weapon in all of COD) can’t even get the sound?!” Another response reads: “Insane how bad of a miss this is for IW. Intervention and MP5 exist in MW2022 as well as 2009. Also, this should’ve affected every sound applicable. Semtex, C4, killstreaks etc. My friends and I were gonna buy it. Lost sales from at least 5 people.” One particularly vocal fan replied: “I don’t understand how they can be so incompetent as to miss on such an absolute slam dunk like classic sounds for all the weapons. They’re so dumb. They’re so f**king stupid dude.” In addition to the classic Lachmann Sub and a classic ACR-inspired ISO Hemlock blueprint, the Throwback Audio Pack will also include the ‘Classic Soap’ Operator Skin. The price of the bundle hasn’t been revealed yet but is expected to cost around 2,400 COD Points, the equivalent of $20 USD. Although with the recent Thunder Front bundle released on May 3 costing 3,000 COD Points, it could end up being more expensive.

MW2 players take one more parting shot at “shocking” UI – Dexerto
MW2 players take one more parting shot at “shocking” UI ActivisionActivision celebrated Modern Warfare 2’s introduction of HQ for making the UI “more straightforward,” but community members argue the inverse. Disdain for MW2 has arguably amplified excitement about Modern Warfare 3. And it doesn’t help that Sledgehammer Games’ marketing strategy only added more fuel to the fire. MW3 directly tears down what Infinity Ward built up this past year by re-introducing the classic mini-map, slide canceling, map voting, and more. And then, Community members drew comparisons between how Sledgehammer Games and Infinity Ward handled community feedback. Players specifically pointed out how Infinity Ward refused to revert the mini-map even after players complained about the change during the MW2 beta. While on the other hand, the MW3 devs rolled out multiple updates to address community concerns. With all of that frustration built up, community members didn’t waste another opportunity to bash the previous game. Modern Warfare 2 players crash celebration party On October 26, Activision released a blog post celebrating Call of Duty’s 20th anniversary. The studio shouted out each game and honored their contributions to the series. For MW2, the game received recognition for introducing DMZ, Campaign Early Access, and Raid Episodes, among other improvements. But at the end of the blurb, Activision credited Call of Duty HQ as a noteworthy innovation, a statement that CharlieIntel mocked on social media. “Activision claims Call of Duty HQ “makes it easier and straightforward” to jump into Call of Duty games, but there are video tutorials on YouTube on how to access game modes.” For context, HQ serves as a central hub for COD. Players launch one title. From there, they can choose to access Modern Warfare 2, Warzone, or Modern Warfare 3. But instead of simplifying the process, some community members have argued that finding where they are going is more confusing than ever. DMZ content creator Westie responded: “The UI is shocking. Endless horizontal and vertical scrolling. Just make the boxes smaller.” A second user included an image of a tutorial to find the MW2 Campaign with over 100,000 views and used that as evidence to suggest HQ is not doing its job. To really hammer the point home, a third player claimed: “It’s the most annoying, confusing interface in COD history.” Activision has not revealed any plans to rework HQ, but it’s clear that Modern Warfare 2 community members want to see significant change before giving the feature any sort of praise.

MW2 players slam throwback audio pack for sounding “nothing” like the original – Dexerto
MW2 players slam throwback audio pack for sounding “nothing” like the original ActivisionModern Warfare 2 players were left disappointed after the original MW2 audio bundle fell short of its mark. MW2 2009 was known for its iconic sound design. Voiceover lines for every kill and kill streak added more life and personality to the multiplayer experience. From Soap saying, “AC 130 ready for deployment,” to the forever memorable level-up sound that still elicits a rush of nostalgia to this day. Call of Duty YouTuber Ghosts619 took us on a trip down memory lane by putting original MW2 sounds over Modern Warfare 2 (2022). Footsteps, killstreaks, gun sounds, music, and more were all replaced by original audio for a multiplayer match. Ghosts sent his work to the developers in hopes of them creating a sound pack. Infinity Ward must have caught wind of his passion project, as Season 3 Reloaded will add a throwback audio pack. MW2 community members disappointed by throwback sound pack The Season 3 Battle Pass blog confirmed an MW2 Throwback Pack: ’09 Weapon Audio Bundle would be available for purchase at some point in Season 3 Reloaded. The price and release date have yet to be confirmed, but CoD leaker Joneo got his hands on the weapons early. Joneo shared a clip of the ISO Hemlock and Lachmann Sub in action. The ISO Hemlock is supposed to sound like the ACR, while the Lachmann Sub should sound like the original MP5. Unfortunately, neither weapon sounded similar to their 2009 counterparts. One player responded: “I am shocked by the fact that this does not sound like the original guns at all.” A second user added: “These don’t even sound remotely similar.” Some community members tried their best to remain optimistic that these weapons aren’t the final product. MW2 Players were already upset that the audio pack didn’t include the original Intervention sound; this leak certainly doesn’t boost their confidence.

MW2 players slam “embarrassing” exclusion of Gunfight in Season 2 – Dexerto
MW2 players slam “embarrassing” exclusion of Gunfight in Season 2 ActivisionCall of Duty insider CharlieINTEL reported Gunfight is not returning to MW2 during Season 2 and community members are furious. In early January, a datamine hinted at Gunfight making a triumphant return soon. Modern Warfare 2019 first introduced the 2v2 game mode, and Black Ops: Cold War brought it back for another run. Call of Duty Vanguard discontinued Gunfight, and fans have been itching to dive back in. In June, the developers confirmed Gunfight is coming back for Modern Warfare 2 but only said, “at some point.” MW2 players called out the developers for a “depressing” batch of Season 2 content, and some community members viewed Gunfight as a potential saving grace. Unfortunately, CharlieINTEL was the bearer of bad news, denying a Season 2 return. Modern Warfare 2 players demand a return of Gunfight On February 2, CharlieINTEL reported Infinity Ward will reveal a full roadmap for Season 2 multiplayer content on February 8. A fan commented Gunfight with the fingers crossed emoji, and CharlieINTEL shut that hope down by saying no. MW2 took to Reddit and vented their frustrations over the exclusion. One player responded, “It’s a beloved and incredibly simple game mode that they absolutely refuse to give their fans for some reason.” A second community member added, “It’s embarrassing how bad they’re treating multiplayer. They’re this close to putting the final nail in the coffin for this franchise for me.” MW2 players pointed out that multiplayer will likely only receive two new maps in the upcoming season. Some community members hoped that meant the developers would deliver elsewhere. That was the case for this user as they argued, “I assumed when we found out there were only two 6v6 maps it was because they’d finally release gunfight. What are they doing?” Modern Warfare 2’s apparent lack of support disheartens multiplayer fans, but we will learn more about specifics when the full Season 2 blog drops on February 8.

MW2 players slam developers over “awful” state of Ground War – Dexerto
MW2 players slam developers over “awful” state of Ground War ActivisionModern Warfare 2019’s Ground War provided a breath of fresh air for the CoD franchise, but players believe the game mode is an awful state in Modern Warfare 2. Ground War came at a perfect time in 2019. Infinity Ward venturing into large-scale combat appealed to traditional CoD players wanting a change of pace and drew in a disgruntled Battlefield V community. The game mode pitted two teams of 32 players against each other, with the goal of capturing flag objectives. Modern Warfare 2019 featured a whopping nine Ground War maps by the end of the game’s lifespan, and the mode had a passionate following. Modern Warfare 2 built off the mode’s strong foundation, launching with five Ground War maps, and added a new swimming mechanic and more vehicles. 2022 lined up for Activision to once again swoop in and strike gold. Battlefield 2042 fans jumped ship after a rocky launch, and the game mode had a pre-established fan base, but MW2 players explained why Ground War is now in an “awful state.” Players blast Modern Warfare 2 Ground War A Reddit user made a list of complaints about Modern Warfare 2’s Ground War. Some of the main reasons include lack of cover, wasted space, overpowered vehicles and snipers, and unnecessarily large buildings. The player offered a solution by proposing to the developers, “cut excess space around maps, streamline the flags, remove transport heli until a team has only 0 or 1 flag, block off majority of buildings and roofs.” One user responded, “Modern Warfare 2019 ground war was so much better, and it’s disappointing that we got this. I really hope they make some changes in the future.” A second player added, “MW2 ground war just feels like a different mode because it has so many frustrations and very few rewarding fights to take part in.” Community members in the thread agreed two significant issues are the transport helicopter and map design. “In my opinion removing the helicopters would be the biggest help to the mode and would also make capturing points mean something since you could spawn there.” Ground War was a highlight of Modern Warfare 2019’s success, and community members demand more from the MW2 developers to reach those same heights.

MW2 players slam Activision after Rockstar Games supported GTA Mods – Dexerto
MW2 players slam Activision after Rockstar Games supported GTA Mods Rockstar GamesRockstar Games announced a partnership with two of the largest GTA Mod creators, and COD community members asked why Activision couldn’t do the same. Activision made its stance on mod creators very clear. First, the publisher sent a cease and desist to Sm2 in May, forcing the passion project to stop development after two years of work. Sm2 was a free-to-play mod that used the MW 2019 engine and featured over 100 classic weapons, 24 perks, and a full progression system. And then, just five days later, Activision came knocking again, this time for X Labs. Another cease and desist letter, shutting down the fan-created mod that restored classic COD titles such as MW2 (2009), COD Ghosts, and Black Ops 3 with dedicated servers and anti-cheat software. Everything culminated in July when Xbox suddenly revived MW2 (2009). Classic COD titles shot to the top of Xbox sales charts and Activision reaped the rewards. Despite witnessing the success Activision pulled off, Rockstar Games took a different approach with its mod community. Activision partners with GTA Mod creators Cfx.re and RedM On August 11, Rockstar Games announced a partnership with Cfx.re, FiveM, and RedM, which are responsible for creating the largest GTA and Red Ded Redemption role-playing dedicated servers. Rockstar Games credited its mod community for finding “new ways to expand the possibilities of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2.” “By partnering with the Cfx.re team, we will help them find new ways to support this incredible community and improve the services they provide to their developers and players.” Modern Warfare 2 player BKTOOR joked that while Rockstar supported its mod community, Activision took COD’s out. It’s important to note that the COD mod Plutonium is still around, despite the tweet suggesting otherwise. But it’s clear some community members would have preferred that Activision offered a lending hand rather than wiping out passion projects.

MW2 players roast “grilled cheese” skin over hilarious bug – Dexerto
MW2 players roast “grilled cheese” skin over hilarious bug DexertoGame-breaking bugs have outraged the Modern Warfare 2 community, so it’s a nice change of pace when players join together to joke over less severe glitches. It feels like everyday players discover a new bug in Modern Warfare 2. A visual glitch caused player’s screens to be temporarily consumed by darkness and that’s only the tip of the ice berg. YouTuber Cartiier ran through a game-breaking “God Mode” bug that ruins matches. Thankfully the latest glitch that users are experiencing, isn’t anywhere near as game altering. A glitch in Modern Warfare 2’s main menu only displays one usable Operator, and it just so happens to be a “grilled cheese skin.” Modern Warfare 2 players expose Operator glitch Modern Warfare 2 features 24 playable Operators at launch. Unfortunately, Reddit user idk-bruh shared a visual bug that forces Fender to appear as your selected Operator. The confused user joked, “is anybody else getting tired of seeing this guy with grilled cheeses strapped to his face?” One player responded, “a friend of mine changed his to oni, but my other friend also changed it, and it just won’t reflect for me; same with his level, it’s stuck at 1 when he’s at like level 20 or something, very weird.” Modern Warfare 2’s UI has already received harsh criticism from fans. Players slammed it as the “worst UI in CoD history” and glitches like this only amplify problems. Help appears to be on the way as a leaker claimed a UI overhaul is coming after fan backlash. A second user added, “Billion dollar company, AAA Game, 3000 devs and a 3 year build time by the way.” The Modern Warfare 2 community is not satisfied with the game’s UI, but for harmless bugs like this, you can’t help but laugh.

MW2 players praise the Drill Charge as CoD’s “best addition” in years – Dexerto
MW2 players praise the Drill Charge as CoD’s “best addition” in years DexertoSome players believe Modern Warfare 2 suffers from severe camping problems, but the Drill Charge is a perfect countermeasure. Modern Warfare 2 controversially reworked Dead Silence into a Field Upgrade. The powerful ability allows players to traverse maps silently and formerly was a Loadout Perk. Players complained during MW2’s beta that footsteps were too loud, playing right into campers’ hands. Using Dead Silence for entire matches would help alleviate audio problems, but the developers decided to tackle grievances from a different angle. Infinity Ward decreased the overall range of footstep audio., and the Field Upgrade’s activation sound effect was “drastically reduced.” Both changes address community concerns, but camping still plagues MW2. Fortunately, an underrated Lethal equipment item is the perfect remedy. What is the Drill Charge? The Drill Charge is a Lethal grenade that burrows into surfaces before exploding. It is perfect for dealing with enemies on the opposite side of walls in a building or immobilizing vehicles. Reddit user TylerNy315 claimed, “The drill charge is the best addition to a CoD in years.” They argued that it is a perfect counter to the community’s most significant problem with Modern Warfare 2019. One player responded, “Trophy systems don’t stop the explosion through walls, of course, and so it’s often hard to clear an indoor objective site without drills.” A second player added, “Agreed, I can’t be bothered to use anything other than the Drill Charge at this point.” The Drill Charge will not only be good for clearing out rooms in Multiplayer but also for decimating vehicles in Warzone 2. We will surely see the Lethals’ use further evolve as the meta game’s meta takes shape.

MW2 players plead with devs to remove SBMM from pubs when Ranked is added – Dexerto
MW2 players plead with devs to remove SBMM from pubs when Ranked is added ActivisionCall of Duty Modern Warfare 2 players are begging the devs to remove skill-based matchmaking from multiplayer now that a ranked mode is finally coming to the game. Season 2 will introduce some massive changes for Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2, as the multiplayer side of things is, at long last, finally getting ranked play. With the news announcing the long-awaited feature, a group of players is, once again, pleading with the developers, via social media, to remove skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) from the regular matches. Said players argue that fans looking for a more “hardcore” experience or facing off against enemies with similar skills will now have an entire mode dedicated just to that, while the more “casual” players still have to go through “ranked-like” experience in normal multiplayer matches because of SBMM. Players argue SBMM has no place in Modern Warfare 2 anymore The conversation about this can be observed under posts by Infinity Ward and various Call of Duty Twitter accounts. “PLEASE, if you’re adding ranked play then there is no point in keeping SBMM to MP anymore, just remove it,” one user pleaded to Infinity Ward over Twitter. Similar votes of disappointment with the system can be heard in a Reddit thread discussing the ranked play announcement on the game’s subreddit. “Watch ranked be less sweaty than pubs because it actually matches you with people of your skill level vs whatever the hell SBMM does normally,” reads one of the top upvoted comments in the thread. “Regular MP turned into an SBMM-filled mess,” reads another comment sharing the sentiment. Various content creators have also been raising concerns about SBMM, saying it takes away from the experience, with some complaints stemming back to the Modern Warfare 2 beta period. It remains to be seen if the developers address the feedback over SBMM, though.

MW2 players mock devs over basic misunderstanding of bullets in loading screen – Dexerto
MW2 players mock devs over basic misunderstanding of bullets in loading screen Activision BlizzardA new MW2 loading screen has Call of Duty players wondering if developers have forgotten how bullets actually work. The loading screen in question isn’t the only new addition that has Modern Warfare 2 users buzzing of late. Activision recently deployed Season 2 Reloaded, which introduced the Himmelmatt Expo 6v6 map, KV Broadside shotgun, and Special Ops Raid Episode 2. Of course, the update also came packed with a host of fixes for bugs, specifically those related to audio glitches, Field Upgrade issues, and much more. Some players were stuck on another aspect of the experience at the time, however – a loading screen that called into question the function of bullets. Fans mock MW2 loading screen showing bullets being fired Reddit user xSpectre37 recently snapped a screenshot of a Modern Warfare 2 loading screen that showcased an interesting image. The image depicts an extreme close-up of several bullets flying over a city as the sun sets. Nothing special, really. The only problem is that the bullets are still lodged in their casings. “No way they did a loading screen with bullets shooting the whole casing,” the Redditor wrote in the following post. Of course, Call of Duty fans are having a field day with this revelation. Some have even invoked Portal 2’s Cave Johnson, the Aperture Science CEO who once said of the company’s turrets – “…we fire the whole bullet. That’s 65 percent more bullet per bullet.” The bullet-ladden MW2 loading screen suggests Cave and Call of Duty developers think alike in some respects. More than likely, the above is merely an example of an honest mistake. Another minor mistake made the rounds a few days ago, in fact, when players noticed that patch notes mentioned a fix for a nonexistent in-game attachment.

MW2 players have one major complaint about new Pelayo’s Lighthouse map – Dexerto
MW2 players have one major complaint about new Pelayo’s Lighthouse map Call of DutyCall of Duty players are enjoying the new MW2 multiplayer map Pelayo’s Lighthouse – but there’s one major complaint that keeps coming up. Pelayo’s Lighthouse was introduced to Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer map rotation as part of the latest Season 3 patch. Though it was teased as a pseudo-remake of the classic Modern Warfare 2 map Estate, Pelayo’s Lighthouse adds many new landmarks and sight lines for players to exploit. It’s only been a few days, but Call of Duty players seem to have a very strong reaction to Pelayo’s Lighthouse, particularly with one major complaint. Players’ biggest problem with MW2’s Pelayo’s Lighthouse While there are plenty of features that have MW2 players gushing over Pelayo’s Lighthouse – particularly the rain and nighttime setting – one complaint consistently cropped up on a Reddit thread discussing the map: Its size. Estate, the map that Pelayo’s Lighthouse draws inspiration from, was known to be a rather large map back in the original Modern Warfare 2, but MW2 players believe those problems have been exacerbated. “I like it, just hate the running around for 2 minutes trying to find where the enemies are at and then getting shot from my own spawn,” the top comment on the thread says. “If you’re playing 10v10 on it. It would be immaculate. But yet again. It’s a 6v6 map that’s just a little too big,” another agreed. But many in the comments were also quick to note that these feelings might change once players have gotten more time to learn the map and discover all the different alleys and sightlines. Overall, it seems players are largely happy with Pelayo’s Lighthouse. They just wish it wasn’t so hard to run across it.

MW2 players have finally had enough of Shipment “ruining Call of Duty” – Dexerto
MW2 players have finally had enough of Shipment “ruining Call of Duty” ActivisionModern Warfare 2 players have had enough of the Shipment map, with many claiming that the fast-paced location is “ruining Call of Duty” and is arguably “one of the worst maps in the franchise.” With Modern Warfare 2 now fully ingrained into Season 2 Reloaded, many are enjoying the new weapon and map added into the fast-paced multiplayer game. However, such a new map has inspired many fans to take a look at all the maps in Modern Warfare 2, prompting players to label Shipment as one of the “worst maps in the franchise.” Initially, the discussion was held on Reddit, through an ‘unpopular opinions’ post in which a few players stated their dislike for Shipment. Soon after, multiple fans shared their agreement, with some stating how they “absolutely hate the map” while others claim the map is “ruining Call of Duty.” Modern Warfare 2 players label Shipment as “one of the worst maps” Despite the Reddit post being all about unpopular opinions, one belief seems to be shared by many; the notion that many Modern Warfare 2 players have had enough of Shipment, claiming that it’s “ruining Call of Duty” and that many fail to enjoy the map due to the fact “there’s just no strategy involved.” Many frustrations are aimed at the lack of strategy, with fans sharing their frustrations at the fast-paced and close-quartered map style, claiming that the location is “only good for grinding.” Others highlight the nature of the map being “literally spawn and die” with many attempting to head into the map to level up their weapons, only to find themselves spawn trapped and their KD ratio dropping rapidly. Nevertheless, many took to the comments to share their love for the map, with players stating it has a calming nature, allowing fans to “just turn off your brain and play” rather than learning all the techniques of other locations. Needless to say, fans are incredibly torn with their opinions on Shipment, with many despising the experience, and others believing it to be a necessary evil.

MW2 players frustrated by “broken” Perk that hasn’t been fixed in seven months – Dexerto
MW2 players frustrated by “broken” Perk that hasn’t been fixed in seven months ActivisionModern Warfare 2 players are frustrated at the state of Bomb Squad, a Base Perk in MW2 that is being labeled “broken,” due to how little protection it provides against launchers. Bomb Squad is MW2’s rendition of the classic explosion damage resistance Perk that has featured throughout Call of Duty history. From EOD to Flak Jacket it’s become a staple that fans have come to expect. It’s an extremely important Perk as explosives in COD can be incredibly powerful and a Trophy System can only do so much. However, the underwhelming state of Bomb Squad in MW2 has left some players annoyed and wanting it to be fixed. Bomb Squad isn’t protecting MW2 players against explosives Members of the Modern Warfare 2 community are upset with the state of Bomb Squad, believing that the Base Perk doesn’t work as intended and is in need of a fix. A thread titled “So when is Infinity Ward gonna fix bomb squad in MP?” was posted on the MW2 subreddit. It features a video showing multiple examples of RPG shots killing through Bomb Squad despite not directly impacting the player. One reply hypothesized why the Perk seems so inconsistent: “I think Launchers are (for no good reason) unaffected by Bomb Squad in multiplayer.” Another member chimed in revealing that they’ve found that it’s not just launcher shots that can kill through Bomb Squad: “I’ve died to frag grenades while using Bomb Squad too. Many times. It’s actually broken.” Not everyone agreed that Bomb Squad was broken though, with others believing it’s just how the Perk is balanced in MW2: “I don’t think it’s bugged, I think it’s just weaker in MWII. I think a Drill Charge is the only thing that can’t get a kill under the right circumstances.” Some players just disagreed there was a problem altogether: “Bomb squad reduces damage, it doesn’t prevent death. You got nailed by an RPG, Bomb Squad shouldn’t matter.” The state of Bomb Squad in MW2 is a contentious topic with some players wanting it buffed, others thinking it’s fine, and some believing that the Perk doesn’t work at all. It’s rare for Perks in COD games to be significantly changed after launch, but Birdseye did get nerfed in Warzone and Infinity Ward had previously looked into changing Ghost to a Base Perk. However, plans to do so were canceled due to balance concerns.

MW2 players flame expensive “pay-to lose” operator skin – Dexerto
MW2 players flame expensive “pay-to lose” operator skin ActivisionMW2 and WZ2 Season 3 has come with some cosmetic bundles that players think are a bit too expensive, including a new operator skin that shocked community members. Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 has a lot of microtransactions, something players have called out the Activision for. Community members mocked the BlackCell bundle for its $30 price tag. The new battle pass offering awards Battle Pass tier skips, CoD Points, and exclusive cosmetic items. Though the Battle Pass awards CoD points, it also requires an initial investment to take advantage of those rewards. Warzone 2 players were also furious as “shameless” pay-to-win bundles arrived in DMZ. Players can load into matches with free UAVs, bonus perks, or other advantages just by purchasing an operator skin. Activision nerfed the bundle after receiving backlash but set a new precedent for microtransactions. Adding to a growing list of frustrations, MW2’s latest store bundle disappoints on multiple fronts. MW2 and Warzone 2 players slam Cyber Riot bundle An MW2 player posted an image of the new Cyber Riot store bundle on Reddit, questioning a $24 purchase for six total items. The bundle includes an operator skin, two weapon camos with tracer bullets, a weapon charm, a sticker, and an emblem. Typically tracer store bundles cost more because the weapon camos have unique bullets or kill animations, but some players feel cheated by a $24 price tag. Community members labeled the skin as “pay to lose” because it gives away your location too easily. “It glows and makes you stick out like a sore thumb.” Other complaints stem from the bundle just offering six items. “For 2400 points, you should be getting 1 of everything.” The Cyber Riot bundle excludes large decals, a finisher, and other stickers or charms. An argument was made that nothing in the store is worth its price. “How can you justify paying 1/3 or even 1/2 the cost of the entire game when all you get is some cosmetic items.” Season 3’s polarizing cosmetic items have community members’ patience wearing thin.

MW2 players flame devs for “screwing up” classic party mode – Dexerto
MW2 players flame devs for “screwing up” classic party mode ActivisionSome Modern Warfare 2 community members demand a rework for One in the Chamber, as the classic party game mode suffers from a few design flaws. Infinity Ward put an emphasis on bringing back fan-favorite party game modes in Season 2. The developers added Gun Game, Infected, and Grind to start and then re-introduced Drop Zone All or Nothing and One in the Chamber mid-season. Modern Warfare 2 added a Party Modes playlist to celebrate the occasion that cycles through every mode. Popular YouTuber JackFrags had some of the most fun in his long CoD history while testing the new modes. Unfortunatley, not every fan shared an enjoyable experience, as One in the Chamber played much differently than once remembered. MW2 players bash “terrible” One in the Chamber remake One in the Chamber made its first CoD appearance all the way back during the original Black Ops in 2010. Each player starts with a pistol loaded with one bullet. Every shot kills and awards a new bullet, but a missed shot results in you needing to rely on a knife to get a kill. Players only have three lives, so they need to plan out their survival strategically. However, MW2 allows players to join mid-match, making it easier for users to join late and take advantage of having more lives than others. MW2 community members vented their frustrations on Reddit. “No joke, this is one of the funniest screw-ups they’ve done so far. Shows they literally do not play their own game at all.” Players put their heads together and came up with a few solutions to the issue. “If they want to allow mid-game joins, they should join with either 1 life, or however many live the remaining players have, but it should go off which player has the least lives left that is still alive.” A second user suggested: “I feel there should be rounds like SnD. Something like each round is 2 and a half to 5 mins, and there is something like 3-6 rounds.” MW2 community members won’t wait too long for change, as one commenter responded, “they can’t keep fu**ing up classic game modes like that.”

MW2 players finally uncover secret menu that nobody knew existed – Dexerto
MW2 players finally uncover secret menu that nobody knew existed ActivisionModern Warfare 2 players have uncovered a menu featuring Weapon challenges, Operator challenges, and more, and nobody knew it existed. Modern Warfare 2 fans have had issues with the game UI on multiple occasions, often complaining that the games UI is “the worst in history” highlighting its confusing design. Such a design has clearly had an impact as one player shows off a menu they never knew existed, just under five months after the games release. Taking to Reddit to express their confusion, one Modern Warfare 2 player questioned if anyone knew that the challenges tab existed in their menu. Soon after, multiple players took to the comments to express their frustrations towards the game’s UI and how they’d never seen the menu before. MW2 players question quality of the UI after finding secret menu Posting the newfound menu to Reddit, the OP shared their confusion regarding the game’s hidden menu, asking “did you know this screen existed” with an image of a challenges tab hidden within the game’s UI. Shortly after posting, players flocked to the comments to share their surprise and frustrations. One player shared how the menu was “new to me and I’ve put 800+ hours into this game.” Other long-term players missed the menu too highlighting how they’ve “never seen this screen in my couple hundred hours of game time.” Others have seen the menu before but rather “stumbled on it by accident” and found themselves wondering “why it’s buried in the start menu…instead of included in the top menu bar like MW19.” Along with the players who have just discovered this hidden menu came fans who were unhappy with the current state of the UI, with one highlighting that “their UI choices leave a lot to be desired,” The many fans who have just found this menu have taken to the comments to share their confusion while some provided those fans a way to find the menu for themselves: “When you’re in the lobby, there will be two rows of 3 squares in the top right where your player level is. Click on that. Then click challenges.” It’s clear that this menu is pretty well hidden, much to the frustration of MW2 fans, and if that’s only just been found, who knows what else lies within the game’s UI.

MW2 players discover bizarre “wallrun” movement technique – Dexerto
MW2 players discover bizarre “wallrun” movement technique ActivisionModern Warfare 2 players on TikTok have figured out a way to imitate the “wallrun” feature from the jetpack age of Call of Duty. MW2 has been dubbed the killer of the so-called “movement era” of Call of Duty, but it turns out there are still some tricks up the sleeve of the new title – though they may not be intentional. Some players have discovered that there are spots around the game’s already controversial maps in which they can get the upper hand on their enemies by hitting them with a surprise “wallrun” that is absolutely disorienting to come up against. MW2 players discover ‘wallrunning’ on multiplayer maps So far this has only been reported to work on one wall in particular as seen below. With the right launch angle, players can stick to walls as they run, completely altering where an opponent would expect them to be in a gunfight. It can also produce some bizarre-looking effects as seen at the end of the video, where a player comes soaring across the screen from an unexpected direction. This is certainly not an intended feature, but for the time being there’s nothing stopping people from taking advantage of it. However, given that Infinity Ward really cracked down on techniques like slide canceling (which allowed players to reset their Tactical Sprint ability), it’s not likely that this one will stick around long. There have already been a number of fixes either promised or already deployed, and while this hasn’t made the list quite yet, the devs will assuredly at it to the list of things that needs to be updated.

MW2 players demand SBMM communication after Apex Legends overhaul – Dexerto
MW2 players demand SBMM communication after Apex Legends overhaul EA / ActivisionModern Warfare 2 players have called on Infinity Ward to improve their communication, around matchmaking especially – pointing to rival franchise Apex Legends as an example to aspire to. Since its launch back in October 2022, multiple aspects of Modern Warfare 2 have received criticism from the ever-vocal CoD community. Whether it’s “blinding” sniper scopes or the absence of classic Call of Duty modes, there’s much for the devs to mull over as we move towards Season 2. Recent developments – like the rumored but unconfirmed delay to Season 2 – have seen more criticism of the devs on the basis of a lack of communication. That’s only intensified after players saw rival franchise Apex Legends release a lengthy and detailed explanation of its new skill-based matchmaking systems. MW2 players call for better dev communication – like Apex Legends The topic was highlighted by one player in a January 17 Reddit post, who said: “Imagine if we had communication [or] community engagement like this from CoD devs…” Attached was an image of Respawn Entertainment’s recent community update, giving Apex players a rundown of the new game’s SBMM. A number of other players echoed the sentiment of the post, with one saying: “I don’t think Activision and their studios will ever disclose how their matchmaking works because it will make the public angry if we find out.” While MW2 and Warzone 2 are widely believed to have SBMM, neither the devs or Activision have addressed the topic publicly. That opacity is at the root of CoD players’ frustrations. Another said that Activision “don’t understand that transparency sells games.” There have been recent rumors that Warzone 2’s player count has fallen much faster than was anticipated. Plenty in the CoD community feel better communication would be a good way to rectify the franchise’s current problems.

MW2 players call out “depressing” Season 2 content as Warzone 2 gets new map – Dexerto
MW2 players call out “depressing” Season 2 content as Warzone 2 gets new map ActivisionModern Warfare 2 players have called out the devs over what they perceive to be a “depressing” lack of content for multiplayer – as Warzone 2 receives a brand new Ashika Island Resurgence map. The launch of Warzone back in 2020 – alongside its wild success – has led to an unprecedented dynamic in the Call of Duty series. Instead of yearly instalments being the focus of developer attention, we’re now seeing multiple studios divide their time between Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2. While that should promise a wealth of fresh and exciting content for players of both titles, it’s generated acrimony from MW2 players perceiving Warzone 2 as being the focus of developer attention. With Season 2 approaching and Ashika Island confirmed as Warzone 2’s new Resurgence map, those feelings have only intensified. MW2 players bash “depressing” lack of Season 2 content Modern Warfare 2 players took to the game’s subreddit to call out the lack of Season 2 content, especially with a new map, modes, and more confirmed for Warzone 2. One player described it as “depressing” and said: “I remember back to the old days how hype the map packs were… 4 new maps. I always grinded the new DLC playlist they’d have along with it. Now it’s come to this… they don’t care about MP [multiplayer]… You can’t charge $70 just so people can level up guns for Warzone.” Others flooded in to agree, especially with OP’s point that Warzone 2 is free to play and yet seems to have more of the devs’ focus than a $70 title. “COD has just become a vehicle for Warzone, and micro-transactions,” another player said. “Anyone who says otherwise is part of the problem.” Elsewhere, the same chord was struck by one player who used a meme to express their dissatisfaction, asking where MW2’s multiplayer content is. Season 2 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, barring any further delays, will drop on February 15.

MW2 players call for scrapped Vanguard feature following Valderas Museum return – Dexerto
MW2 players call for scrapped Vanguard feature following Valderas Museum return ActivisonMuseum is an MW2 map that first debuted in the beta before being pulled from the list, and some fans think its arrival is the perfect excuse to bring back an old Vanguard feature. Valderas Museum has returned in the Season 2 update, which alongside Dome, marks the first multiplayer map additions to the game since its launch. While the announcement drew a lukewarm reception at first, many have praised the larger map for bringing a nice change of pace to the game. Still, there are naysayers that believe it’s too big to fit the current multiplayer parameters and that a familiar CoD feature is the way to make it work. MW2 players call for Vanguard feature after Valderas Museum return Museum is a large map, but there are a few similarly sized maps in the game as well, and players are ready for Infinity Ward to help them pick up the pace. That’s why a few players have rallied around the call for the return of playlists similar to Call of Duty Vanguard’s Combat Pacing feature. This menu allowed for a diverse style of matchmaking which let each individual choose the size of their lobbies. When talking about the size of the Museum, one player on Reddit praised its overall design but claimed that it’s “absolutely enormous” and needs more players to work. There were essentially presets for small, medium, and large lobbies, giving everyone a chance to determine just how chaotic they wanted to play. Other MW2 battlegrounds, like Museum and Taraq, have both been criticized for their pace in 6v6 lobbies, and implementing a 10v10 (or more) option could solve a few issues, as well as open up the door for even faster-paced gameplay on the smaller maps. Until a change is made though, expect some slower matches when queuing into kill-based game modes.

From the recent addition of sporting legends like Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Paul Pogba to more fictional personalities like Shredder. Now, after the announcement that Kevin Durant will soon be arriving in Modern Warfare 2, many fans are suggesting a brand new operator joins the fray in the form of legendary mercenary, John Wick. MW2 fans call for the addition of John Wick operator skin Taking to Reddit, one player expressed their frustrations regarding the lack of John Wick in their game, writing, “Dear, whoever is in charge… Why is this not a thing yet?” In the comments, they also explained that Infinity Ward need to “give us a reasonably priced bundle with John Wick, a John Wick style execution, and a corresponding assault rifle, shotgun, and pistol combo.” Shortly after posting, hundreds of similar players took to the comments to express their agreement, with some providing reasons as to why he’s not yet in the game. “If they were to do a Wick crossover, it definitely wouldn’t be “reasonably priced”, by community standards.” commented one fan as they expressed their frustrations regarding the recent bundle costs. Plenty of players were thrilled by the idea, stating “that would be so cool” and “that’d be badass! I’d get it!” However, others took the time to comment on the recent addition of Kevin Durant, highlighting how they’ve seen “many people wanting john wick more than athletes.” Another player agreed, commenting “When you think of a badass operator, nothing says tactical like a 6’10” basketball player. Hey Activision, wrong kind of shooter.” While there are new skins coming to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 on a regular occasion, no word has yet been announced regarding a possible John Wick arrival – but it’s safe to say many fans would be thrilled.
