  • Modern Warfare dev says “no comment” to battle royale rumors in cryptic response – Dexerto

Modern Warfare dev says “no comment” to battle royale rumors in cryptic response ActivisionRumors have been flying about Call of Duty Modern Warfare title, but an Infinity Ward developer chose not to comment, responding instead with a cryptic message. Call of Duty Black Ops 4 was the first CoD title to feature a battle royale mode, and now fans are wondering if the future installments will feature it too. With Modern Warfare being developed by Infinity Ward instead of Treyarch, it isn’t a given that a BR will show up, but that hasn’t stopped the rumors from swirling. What did the dev say? The rumors first started with YouTuber ‘TheGamingRevolution’ saying that a mode was being worked on, claiming it was never originally planned but instead was being added as a last minute addition, according to his source. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet, but now we have an actual response from Infinity Ward and it just might end up fueling the flames even more. An Infinity Ward developer responded to a fan on Twitter who asked about the battle royale mode and the developer responded simply with a gif of Jim from The Office. The fact that they are not giving a comment is just stoking the flames for the fans even more considering it’s not an outright denial or confirming, leaving a lot of wiggle room for there to actually be a BR. It wouldn’t really be surprising if Modern Warfare has a battle royale mode as it’s still a mega-popular genre. With no hard confirmation either way, we have to take TheGamingRevolution’s word with a grain of salt and wait for official word from Infinity Ward. Modern Warfare releases for PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 25, 2019.

  • Modern Warfare leak reveals 13 new Operators and what they look like – Dexerto

Modern Warfare leak reveals 13 new Operators and what they look like Modern Warfare launched with 18 operators, but a leak has revealed plans for at least 13 more in the future. The Call of Duty franchise took some risks, originally with the Black Ops series, by introducing Specialists which were skins that had special abilities, and caused no end of controversy in the community. With this latest installment, the Specialists are no more, instead, they are simply called operators, which are purely cosmetic, with no special abilities, so there’s nothing to worry about on that end. However, you’ll still want to pay attention to who you pick so you won’t run around looking like everyone else on the battlefield. If you’re not satisfied with the current roster of operators, then you’re in luck, as a new leak has revealed a whopping 13 more are on the way in the future. According to Reddit user Senescallo, these new operators will be split between the two factions almost evenly with six coming to the Allegiance and the other seven going to the Coalition. It’s also possible that there will be more coming in the future if this is true, since it’d be strange the devs leave it on an odd number. What’s even more interesting is that the third operator from the end looks distinctly like former Seattle Seahawks runningback Marshawn Lynch, which would be pretty cool to see given his fondness for the series. One thing that was not mentioned is a price tag. All of the new content that has arrived in Modern Warfare so far has been free of charge, but that doesn’t mean it’ll remain that way going forward. We’ll keep you posted on any news on that front going forward. It’s important to note this remains just a leak for the time being so don’t take it as an absolute fact until we get official confirmation from Infinity Ward. Modern Warfare is less than a month old still so it’s clear there’s a long future in front of it in terms of new content and it has already received new maps, so getting some more operators certainly seems like a possibility.

  • Modern Warfare: New mode, level cap and more for PS4 open beta – Dexerto

Modern Warfare: New mode, level cap and more for PS4 open beta ActivisionDay three of the Modern Warfare beta is bringing a host of changes, with Infinity Ward adding a new game mode, a playlist filter and an increased level cap to multiplayer testing ahead of the open beta coming to PS4. The open beta is scheduled to go live as of 10AM PT / 1PM EST / 6PM BST on PlayStation 4, and as more players come flooding in, more content is set to be added. Thus far, Infinity Ward have kept players enticed by way of content; adding a new map called Gun Runner, and introducing an entirely new game mode to the Call of Duty franchise, Cyber-Attack. Given the developer’s ongoing transparency and willingness to respond to community feedback, they have regularly been updating the Modern Warfare subreddit to keep fans in-the-loop with the beta. Senior Communications Manager, Ashton Williams, has revealed exactly what to expect by way of content in the third day through a Reddit post that also summarized day two. At the foot of the post, Williams explained that: “The game mode filter will be unlocked, allowing you to pick which mode (or modes) you’d like to play… We will also increase the level cap to level 20.” Alongside these changes, the update will see the addition of the Night Vision Goggles or “NVG” game mode — previously a focal point during their multiplayer reveal. Essentially, players will be placed in a darkened render of either Azhir Cave or Hackney Yard, with the ability to utilize NVGs to assist with spotting enemies. Although the use of NVGs will come with one major caveat: players will not be able to directly aim-down-sight during gunfights. Players will have the ability to toggle NVGs on/off, but the creation of an entire game mode around them suggests that they’ll be a focal point to gameplay. Moreover, the introduction of visual assistance will support the ‘realism’ mode set to be incorporated into the latest iteration of the franchise. The game mode will also strip players of their heads-up-display (HUD) and remove hit markers, meaning that players will depend on their NVGs more than ever. • Modern Warfare network analysis reveals troubling inconsistencies – Dexerto

Modern Warfare network analysis reveals troubling inconsistencies A deep-dive into the netcode of Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare from popular YouTuber Battle(non)sense has unveiled some shocking disparities across various game modes. Infinity Ward released Modern Warfare on October 25 and ever since, ample criticism from professional players and content creators alike has been piling up. From questionable map design and overpowered weapons to the often frustrating respawn system, there has been a wide array of feedback. A new network analysis from Battle(non)sense however, has revealed that network issues might be the most overlooked controversy thus far. Throughout a video released by the developers themselves, Production Director Paul Haile and Director of Online Engineering Mitch Sanborn broke down the intricacies of their dedicated server structure. While this in-depth guide would certainly be handy if all matches were contested on an equal playing field, in actuality, Modern Warfare features a mix of both dedicated servers and player-hosted public lobbies. While there’s no telling the exact odds, this essentially means that each game you play has a chance of being hosted by a single player in your lobby. When playing on PC, if you notice a competitor on a mere 7ms ping it is almost guaranteed that the individual is hosting your match. Due to visual quality impacting input latency, 7ms ping appears to be the lowest possible and is only achievable when boasting a 144FPS setup according to the Battle(non)sense breakdown. The detailed review highlighted an average tick rate of just over 60hz across standary modes such as Domination and Hardpoint. This quality only applies to matches that are contested on dedicated servers however, and there is a glaring disparity across an assortment of other game types. “The server sends an average of 22 packets per second to the client” when playing in the Ground War game type for instance. This indicates that typical 6v6 lobbies supposedly perform three times as well as the 64 player Ground War mode. Read More: How to avoid fall damage in Modern Warfare – Additionally, the YouTuber detailed how this tick rate doesn’t necessarily translate to “22 updates per second, as sometimes the server must split the data of one update across multiple packets.” This could subsequently result in the loss of input data entirely, directly leading to missed shots or input lag causing you to be gunned down despite having recently moved to cover. Perhaps the most egregious discovery of the analysis however, came when focusing on custom game lobbies in Modern Warfare. Custom games provide the lowest tick rate of all at only 12hz, meaning that updates between the servers and the players are set to a frequency of 12 per second as opposed to an average of 60 per second in public games. With the Call of Duty League kicking off in a matter of weeks, professional players around the world have been grinding out practice in custom game lobbies but they have doing so with horrendous network performance. “We improved from 10hz custom games to 12hz….end me,” James ‘Clayster’ Eubanks joked after being made aware of the “20% increase” over the network performance of Treyarch’s Black Ops 4 in 2018. ooooooo we improved from 10hz custom games to 12hz A 20% INCREASE BOYS LETS GO ….end me — Clayster (@Clayster) November 20, 2019 While the analysis did indicate that Modern Warfare network performance has seen a step up from the beta period in September, there’s no denying that the current issues leave a lot to be desired. Having earned $600 million in just three days on store shelves and with the Call of Duty League starting imminently, it will be fascinating to see if improvements will be rolled out in the near future to address the network inconsistencies.

  • Why hasn’t MW2 Remastered been announced for Modern Warfare? – Dexerto

Why hasn’t MW2 Remastered been announced for Modern Warfare? Modern Warfare might be generating a lot of hype but a portion of Call of Duty fans are more interested in the prospect of MW2 Remastered. It’s no secret that the Modern Warfare series is arguably the most popular and has produced the two best selling CoD games. There’s still plenty to be revealed for the quintessential Modern Warfare 4 game and one surprise could be it will indeed include MW2 Remastered – although this is far from guaranteed. It is looking increasingly unlikely it will release at launch if it does at all. It begs the question for a game that is undoubtedly one of the most popular of all time, why hasn’t the remaster been announced yet? Infinite Warfare and MWR Why was Modern Warfare Remastered bundled alongside Infinite Warfare though, many of you may ask. We might never know the original plan for MWR – it could have been scheduled to launch alongside Infinite Warfare all along or could have been rushed forward. One theory is that the initial reception to Infinite Warfare was so bad that the cult classic was bundled with it in an attempt to boost sales. Evidence of this poor reception came by looking at the like/dislike ratio on the Infinite Warfare trailer. It received an astounding 3.8 million dislikes which means it had an 86% dislike ratio. In contrast, Modern Warfare has been very well received amassing a 97% like to dislike ratio. Could MW3 Remastered come first? The Call of Duty community are assuming that MW2 Remastered will be the next classic CoD game to get the remaster treatment. It makes logical sense, seeing as chronologically MW2 comes after MW1, but it is by no means certain. Many long-term Call of Duty fans will say MW2 was the best game but, commercially at least, MW3 was the most successful. It currently holds the record of all CoD games for units sold – more than 30 million. So, from the perspective of what sells best, the higher-ups at Call of Duty could opt to release Modern Warfare 3 first. Some might question the logic behind this but after all, the fourth installment of Modern Warfare wasn’t named MW4. Campaign only? Cue CoD fans rolling their eyes. It has been a prominent rumor that MW2 Remastered would release as a standalone campaign mode. This makes little sense as the majority of the Call of Duty community want to play MW2 multiplayer. It also doesn’t make commercial sense either. However, it could be a tactic to split the games up in order to increase hype. A MW2 campaign remaster would get some fans excited and still leaves the multiplayer portion of the game in their back pocket. Infinity Ward has kept tight-lipped about MW2 Remastered so far but maybe that’s a good sign…

  • Modern Warfare multiplayer trailer and cross-play beta dates revealed – Dexerto

Modern Warfare multiplayer trailer and cross-play beta dates revealed Infinity WardCall of Duty developers Infinity Ward and publishers Activision have finally released the trailer for the multiplayer side of things in Modern Warfare, along with the schedule for the game’s open beta. The world stood still in the Call of Duty community on August 1 for the highly-anticipated global reveal event of Modern Warfare multiplayer, giving players what they had been starving for. The developers had kept largely mum on multiplayer since MW was officially announced back on May 31, but with the game less than three months away from release, it was time for them to finally spill the beans. The presentation started, as per usual, with the debut of the multiplayer trailer, which showcased the game’s weapons, mechanics, killstreaks, and other aspects in one entertaining compilation of intense highlights. Modern Warfare open beta dates announced In addition to the trailer, and the flurry of other news and announcements, Activision also confirmed that there would be a beta session for players to try out MW prior to its release. Unlike previous years, the beta will be open to everyone on all platforms, meaning that players will not be required pre-order the game to gain access. However, there will be an exclusive beta session held for those that do pre-order the game, meaning that buying ahead of time does still have its perks. Additionally, since Sony’s exclusivity agreement with Activision is still in effect, those on the PlayStation 4 will get to try out the beta earlier than their counterparts on the Xbox One and PC. That said, here is the full schedule for the Modern Warfare multiplayer open beta: PlayStation 4 Exclusive Beta September 12 – 13 (Early Access, PlayStation 4) – September 14 – 16 (Open Beta, PlayStation 4) – – Beta featuring crossplay testing September 19 – 20 (Early Access, PC and Xbox One; Open Beta, PlayStation 4) – September 21 – 23 (Open Beta, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One) – – As noted in the schedule, the second session of beta testing will also feature cross-play for the first time, giving players the chance to try out the game’s cross-platform capabilities. MW will be the first Call of Duty title in the franchise’s long history to support cross-play, meaning players on all three major platforms will be able to play together and against each other. Modern Warfare multiplayer – everything you need to know Below, you can find information about some of the important things discussed in the August 1 global reveal event for Modern Warfare multiplayer. Modern Warfare multiplayer does have a mini-map – but there’s a catch – First look at ‘field equipment’ replacing specialists in Modern Warfare – Modern Warfare makes big changes from Black Ops 4: Healing, TTK, EKIA and more – Modern Warfare is scheduled to release on October 25 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

  • Modern Warfare multiplayer will feature interactive in-game ‘Tamagunchi’ digital pets – Dexerto

Modern Warfare multiplayer will feature interactive in-game ‘Tamagunchi’ digital pets GameInformer / MashableThe upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game will give players an interactive wrist toy called ‘Tamagunchi’ to wear in-game when playing multiplayer. As the October 25 release date for Modern Warfare continues to creep closer, more and more information about the highly-anticipated title is being revealed. The latest bit of detail to be revealed came on August 6, courtesy of GameInformer, who announced that the next CoD title will feature a digital pet known as a Tamagunchi. When equipped, players will be able to interact with the toy in-game, as it will react out loud to how the wearer is performing during any given match. Read More: Black Ops 4 August 6 update patch notes – “This little thing on your wrist, every time you get a string of kills, it goes, ‘Ya-ta!’ and it makes a little noise, then you look at it, and it evolved out of an egg,” said Art Director Joel Emslie. “Tamagunchis are fed by the player’s performance in multiplayer. It’s just this little active wristwatch thing.” If the name Tamagunchi sounds familiar, that’s because it is. The Modern Warfare wrist toy was inspired by Tamagotchi – a handheld digital pet released in the late 90s that quickly became one of the most popular toys of its generation. Much like the original concept, the Modern Warfare version will also need to be taken care of and nurtured, and players can do that by performing well in-game, or risk the chance of the pet suffering death. “If you don’t take care of your Tamagunchi, it will rot and die,” said Emslie. Read More: MW devs cut major movement feature – The Art Director also revealed that it was not their primary plan to go with a wrist toy, initially brainstorming ideas like having a device that would provide stat tracking and work similarly to a smartwatch. However, with the ideas “growing into more and more madness,” the developers ultimately decided to go with a digital pet, for those who want to lighten the mood in the midst of heated battle. This is, of course, yet another aspect of Modern Warfare that is totally new to the world of Call of Duty, and it’s not even the only usable item players will be able to wear on their wrists in-game. Infinity Ward confirmed several weeks ago that every player’s character will be fitted with a watch that will tell their exact time, based on the time zone in which they are playing online. It’s clear that the developers are doing everything they can to raise the bar, although we’ll just have to wait and see how well a digital pet will work in a mature rated first-person-shooter. Modern Warfare will be released on October 25, 2019 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

  • Modern Warfare multiplayer does have a mini-map – but there’s a catch – Dexerto

Modern Warfare multiplayer does have a mini-map – but there’s a catch The full multiplayer reveal for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has given fans their first look at gameplay in the upcoming game – and there may be cause for relief after a mini-map was confirmed, but perhaps not as expected. Previous leaks and comments from YouTubers who had played the game early suggested that the mini-map had been scrapped entirely for Modern Warfare. The very thought of such a drastic change to the core multiplayer experience concerned fans greatly, especially for the competitive side of Call of Duty, which relies heavily on teammate locations for predicting spawns and more. How to get a mini-map in Modern Warfare? It turns out the leaks were not totally wrong, but not totally accurate either, as there is in fact a mini-map in Modern Warfare multiplayer, but only when a player acquires a ‘Personal Radar’ or UAV killstreak. The Personal Radar streak is acquired after earning two kills without dying, and appears to last around 40 seconds, but does not have a sweeping functionality to highlight enemy player locations, and appears to only give the player who earned it a mini-map. However, the UAV operates just like past titles, with a sweep across the map, and gives a mini-map to all players on the team, and appears to require three kills without dying. Players who call in a UAV will also get 10 points for an assist, but it can be prevented by the enemy team with a counter UAV. Without a Personal Radar or UAV, you can still see a map by pressing the pause menu, which gives a full overview. 500With a circular shape, the mini-map rotates with the players direction, similar to past iterations, and of course shows the locations of teammates nearby. For esports, there is still a question over how exactly the mini-map will be implemented, as UAV’s have always been banned in competitive play, for obvious reasons. Perhaps the mini-map will be enabled at all times regardless in competitive as rumors suggest, which would certainly be the option most professional players will be hoping for.

  • Modern Warfare multiplayer – all confirmed weapons, killstreaks, tacticals and more – Dexerto

Modern Warfare multiplayer – all confirmed weapons, killstreaks, tacticals and more Infinity WardWith the current build of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer finally having been showcased to the public, the confirmed list of what’s available in the game has also been revealed. The global reveal event for the multiplayer side of things in Modern Warfare finally took place on August 1, revealing information about the various aspects of the game that had been kept under wraps under now. One area that was discussed was about all of the weapons, lethals, tacticals, killstreaks, and perks that are currently available in the game for use, details about which can be found below. Keep in mind, of course, that the following lists pertain to the current build of MW multiplayer, meaning that things could be added, removed, or adjusted by the time the full version of the game gets released. Modern Warfare multiplayer – weapons Weapons form the primary foundation for every Call of Duty game, and this early version of MW already has a plethora of guns for players to use. The current pool of weapons includes five assault rifles, three SMGs, two shotguns, two LMGs, two marksmen rifles, and one sniper rifle. Assault Rifles: M13 – FR 5.56 – M4A1 – AK-47 – Oden – SMGs: MP5 – MP7 – AUG – Shotguns: Model 680 – 725 – LMGs: M91 – L86A2 – Marksmen Rifles M14 – MK2 – Sniper: AX-50 – Modern Warfare multiplayer – killstreaks Modern Warfare has brought back something that hasn’t been seen in a while in a CoD game – killstreaks. The past several titles have all ditched the classic system of obtaining streaks via killing sprees, opting to go with scorestreaks instead. In MW, players will now have to string a few eliminations in a row to earn streaks, some of which have already been confirmed: 3 Kills: Personal Radar — Escort drone that enables the radar for the owner, and pings nearby enemies. – – 4 Kills: Counter UAV – UAV – Care Package – – 5 Kills: Cluster Strikes — Signal for a number of cluster mortars to hit the designated location. – Cruise Missile — Control a long range cruise missile with boost capabilities. – Precision Airstrike — Call in twin jets for a precision strike along the best available path. – – 7 Kills: Wheelson — Remote controlled UGV with a powerful airburst turret. – Infantry Assault Vehicle — A manned light infantry vehicle with a.50 cal machine gun on top. – – 8 Kills: Emergency Airdrop — Call in 3 random kill streak care packages to your location. – VTOL Jet — Releases an initial missile barrage before guarding a location of the player’s choice – – 10 Kills: Chopper Gunner – White Phosphorus – – 11 Kills: Support Helo — Call in a heavy assault helo with twin turrets to patrol the map – – 12 Kills: Gunship — Heavy assault gunship with three types of armaments – Advanced UAV — Orbital UAV that reveals the enemy’s direction on the mini map. – – 15 Kills: Juggernaut – – Modern Warfare multiplayer – lethals & tacticals Of course, no Call of Duty title would be complete without its own set of lethal and tactical items that players can chuck at each other, or strategically place to catch enemies off guard. The game, as it stands, currently has eight lethals and eight tacticals: Lethal Frag Grenade – Semtex – Molotov Cocktail – Claymore – Throwing Knife – C4 – Thermite – Proximity Mine – Tactical Flash Grenade – Smoke Grenade – Stun Grenade – Stim — Military stimulant that cauterizes combat wounds – Decoy Grenade — Counter-intel grenade that simulates fake gunfire and radar signatures that confuses the enemy. – Gas Grenade — Explodes on impact with the ground releasing a lingering cloud of tear gas that causes slowed movement, blurred vision, and coughing. – Snapshot Grenade — Provides a momentary glimpse of enemies within the blast radius. – Heartbeat Sensor — A tablet that displays rough information about nearby enemies. – Players will be able to try all of these weapons, killstreaks, throwables and more in the beta sessions that will be held in the coming weeks, which will include days on which the beta will be open to everyone on all platforms. Modern Warfare will be released on October 25, 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

  • Michael Condrey claims Activision are making Modern Warfare controversial for “headlines” – Dexerto

Michael Condrey claims Activision are making Modern Warfare controversial for “headlines” Michael Condrey, co-founder of Sledgehammer Games, made some rather interesting comments in regards to Call of Duty‘s next title – Modern Warfare – in their attempt to grab “headlines”. In an interview with VentureBeat, the former Sledgehammer Games lead figure when asked about Modern Warfare’s disturbing nature said: “MW seems like a tough challenge for any studio, especially if they are being pushed by publishing to be more controversial and ‘darker’ for the sake of headlines.” While Condrey isn’t outright accusing Activision of making Modern Warfare as controversial as possible for headlines, he is certainly suggesting it. It isn’t clear whether Condrey knows this to be true, i.e. he knows it for a fact, or whether somebody from within the Call of Duty team, be it the publishers or developers, have told him as such. Nevertheless, the tactic has clearly worked as there has been headline after headline discussing the disturbing nature of the campaign. The result, as Activision would have hoped, has been increased hype for the game, even by Call of Duty’s lofty standards. There has arguably not been a CoD campaign as anticipated in the franchise’s history – and this can almost certainly be attributed to the headlines it has generated so far. Activision wanting to make the game as controversial as possible to drive sales won’t come as a surprise to many – in fact it’s to be expected as that is their job as a publisher. However, it is in conflict to the creative freedom that a developer should have. Infinity Ward has said in the past, on numerous occasions, that the story is their own creation. Whether this is true or whether Activision have indeed had some sway will perhaps never been known for sure. YouTubers who have played a small part of the campaign have claimed it makes Modern Warfare 2’s “No Russian” mission look like a “Pixar film”. Call of Duty fans will be able to see just how disturbing the game is on October 25 when the fourth instalment of Modern Warfare is released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

  • Modern Warfare May 26 Multiplayer Update: Store changes, playlists – Dexerto

Modern Warfare May 26 Multiplayer Update: Store changes, playlists Activision/Infinity WardInfinity Ward ‘s May 26 playlist update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone on PS4, Xbox One and PC has officially gone live in-game. The latest update is a bit light, since it comes in the final week before Season 4 kicks off in Warzone and Modern Warfare. That doesn’t mean there’s no new content though, there are a number of new Multiplayer playlists and new store bundles available, alongside the return of the Plunder Pack and the Ronin Operator Bundle. Alongside the Plunder and Ronin packs, the two new bundles available for players this week are the Tracer Pack: Purple and Lumber Tactical pack. As the names imply, the Purple pack unlocks several purple-colored weapon skins, while Lumber brings a unique Paul Bunyan inspired skin for Raines and plenty of other lumberjack themed cosmetics. The ‘Tall Tale’ melee weapon, for instance, looks like a ton of fun to cut enemies down to size with. The meat of the May 26 update are the seven new MP playlists, which are as follows: Ground War – Blueprint Gunfight – Gun Game on Gunfight maps – Deathmatch Domination – Drop Zone – Shoot House 24/7 – Shipment 24/7 – With Season 4 fast approaching, there were unfortunately no Warzone changes included in the update, but those should be coming along with the next season of play. Despite a lack of new Warzone content, there was a new trailer highlighting the Plunder Pack’s return with a voice-over by Xzibit, who might know more about pimping rides than anyone else on Earth. Following teasers previously shared by Infinity Ward, it certainly seems like the next chapter of Modern Warfare and Warzone looks set to carry on the momentum of the popular title. So if you’re disappointed with the sparse offerings this week, don’t worry too much, because Season 4 is predicted to launch on or around Wednesday, June 3, just in time to bring us plenty of new content for the summer.

  • Modern Warfare March 3 patch notes: weapon changes, Tomogunchi pet, more – Dexerto

Modern Warfare March 3 patch notes: weapon changes, Tomogunchi pet, more Infinity WardCall of Duty developers Infinity Ward have released another update for Modern Warfare Season 2, mixing up the available playlists in multiplayer, introducing the new ‘Tomogunchi’ pet toy, making changes to certain weapons, and more. Season 2 continues to roll on in Modern Warfare as Infinity Ward have released some more content into the game that didn’t make the cut when the new season first dropped. In addition, the update also implemented some changes and fixes in the game, perhaps the biggest one being a slight buff to the Uzi SMG and the addition of two new attachments. Playlist update As is usually the case with these weekly CoD updates, the March 3 patch has shuffled some of the playlists in multiplayer. Dirty Old House Boat has been replaced with Shoot the Ship 24/7, combining fan-favorite maps Shipment and Shoot House into a single playlist. A couple of changes have been made to Gunfight, as well. The regular 3v3 version has replaced the 3v3 Snipers Only variant, and there’s also a new mode called ‘1v1 Me Bro,’ which is just like the traditional Gunfight, except UAV is always on and players can hear enemies speaking. Last but not least, Boots on the Ground War has been reworked so that it’s just like regular Ground War, with the exception of tanks. It had previously featured Realism rules, but that has since been removed. Weapon changes This March 3 update has implemented changes to a few weapons in multiplayer. The Uzi has been slightly buffed, as IW have sped up the sprint-out time. Furthermore, they’ve also added two new attachments for the SMG that can be unlocked by completing certain challenges. New .41 AE caliber change for increased damage and range – New Uzi Carbine Pro Barrel for increased range and bullet velocity – There were also a couple of changes that had been announced in the February 25 patch but were never implemented. The close and mid-range damage of the AK-47’s 5.45x39mm round mags has been increased and the recoil of the SA87’s 12.4 Factory Barrel has been reduced. Tomogunchi pet toy As had been initially reported all the way back in August, Infinity Ward have finally added the new Tomogunchi pet toy in Modern Warfare, which is worn like a watch. Similar to the hugely-popular Tamagotchi toys of the late 1990s and early 2000s, this version is a handheld device that features a virtual pet that needs to be taken care of. This primarily entails getting kills in multiplayer; get kills and it’ll continue to survive and be happy, but fail to eliminate enough enemies and it’ll become sad and eventually die. Read More: How Tomogunchi pets work in Modern Warfare – The toy watch comes as part of a set that also includes a dinosaur-themed calling card, emblem, weapon charm, sticker, spray. The bundle costs 1,000 CoD Points in the in-game store. For the official trailer and full details about exactly how they work in-game, like the different pets you can get, how to grow and evolve them, and more, make sure to check out our Modern Warfare Tomogunchi info page. Modern Warfare March 3 update patch notes Here are the full patch notes for this March 3 update, as provided in the latest Infinity Ward blog post: PLAYLIST UPDATE: Shoot the Ship 24/7 (replaces Dirty Old House Boat) – 3v3 Gunfight (replaces Gunfight 3v3 Snipers Only) – 1v1 Me Bro – all Gunfight maps. Includes an always-on UAV and the ability to hear enemy players speaking – Boots on the Ground War – updated to regular Ground War with no tanks and removing Realism rules. – Removed Giant Infection – GENERAL FIXES: Uzi: Sped up sprint out time – New attachments available through challenges! New .41 AE caliber change for increased damage and range – New Uzi Carbine Pro Barrel for increased range and bullet velocity – – PC: Fixed a bug where the shaders status bar would read as paused in the UI even though the shaders were continuing to install in the background CoD Caster: Fixed a bug where killfeed colors would become inverted – Added a way to see when a player has activated Dead Silence – In CDL Domination, the round transition screen would display “Team Wins” instead of “Switching Sides” when the first round ends. This has been fixed. – Our patch notes from 2/25 contained weapon notes that did not actually make it into update itself. The below changes are now live as of today: Increased close and mid-range damage for the AK 5.45x39mm round mags – Reduced recoil to the SA87 12.4 Factory Barrel –

  • Modern Warfare March 10 patch notes: new shotgun, 725 changes, more – Dexerto

Modern Warfare March 10 patch notes: new shotgun, 725 changes, more Infinity WardCall of Duty developers Infinity Ward have released the 1.17 update for Modern Warfare Season 2, introducing the Warzone battle royale mode, a new shotgun called VLK Rogue, as well as changes to several aspects of the game, including the controversial 725. March 10 was a huge day in the world of Call of Duty, as Modern Warfare’s new Warzone battle royale was launched with the option of playing it for free. It came as part of a huge patch, which also introduced an “agile 12-gauge mag fed shotgun” called the VLK Rogue, the first new weapon of that category since the game’s launch. Speaking of shotguns, this update made some changes to arguably the most controversial one in the game – the 725, or more specifically, its Sawed-Off Barrel. Also added via this patch was the return of the classic mode Search and Rescue, as well as a new 10v10 Mayhem Moshpit playlist, while Boots on the Ground War was removed. A full breakdown of all the new content and changes can be found below, as well as the official patch notes. Warzone battle royale Warzone is the name of Call of Duty’s newest battle royale, the franchise’s second run at the genre following the release of Blackout in 2018. While technically part of Modern Warfare in terms of player progression, Warzone is more or less a standalone game, and it’s free to play, meaning you don’t have to own or buy MW to enjoy the new BR experience. Read More: How to play Warzone for free & without MW – That said, those who do own the full game have some perks, such as getting to play it four hours early and other in-game bonuses. For full details, visit our hub on everything you need to know about Warzone battle royale. New shotgun – VLK Rogue VLK Rogue is the newest shotgun in Modern Warfare multiplayer, and it’s the first addition to that weapon category since the game’s launch. It’s described in-game as an “agile 12-gauge mag fed shotgun from VLK with extensive options to modify range, stability, and maneuverability.” Unlocking it is pretty straightforward, albeit a bit time consuming; all you have to do is get seven kills using a weapon with five attachments in 15 different matches. For more details about this new gun, including the list of all available attachments in Gunsmith, check out our VLK Rogue shotgun info hub. 725 changes Staying on the topic of shotguns, Infinity Ward made several changes to the 725’s Sawed-Off Barrel – a combination of nerfs and buffs. Three of the changes boosted the attachment, while the other two can be considered nerfs: Increased move speed – Increased ADS Spread – Reduced ADS damage – Reduced far damage range – Extended very lethal close damage range – That was the only real major set of adjustments to weapons; the other gun-related changes included in this patch were either just bug fixes or updates to the descriptions of certain attachments. Playlist update As is almost always the case every time Infinity Ward release a new patch for Modern Warfare, 1.17 included a playlist update that shuffled around some of the modes available in multiplayer. The big new addition is Search and Rescue, a classic mode that’s featured in several Call of Duty games dating all the way back to Ghosts. It’s a combination of Search & Destroy and Kill confirmed in that players drop tags when killed, and grabbing a teammate’s tag will revive them – but if an enemy gets to it first, the player will be eliminated from the round. Also introduced is the Mayhem Mosh Pit, which is a 10v10 playlist featuring the three modes Grind, Drop Zone, and Cranked. The third and final change was the removal of Boots on the Ground War, which had a series of problems from the day it was added and never turned out to be a successful or popular mode. Here are the full patch notes for this update, as provided in the latest Infinity Ward post. • Modern Warfare map potentially reveals first look at battle royale – Dexerto

Modern Warfare map potentially reveals first look at battle royale A new Spec Ops map for Call of Duty Modern Warfare may well have given fans another hint at a possible battle royale mode for the new release. After months of anticipation, Call of Duty fans finally got their hands on Modern Warfare on October 25, diving into the first installment of the popular CoD sub-series for nearly a decade. Despite a brief hiccup with the servers upon the launch time in the United States, it appears to have been an initial success for Infinity Ward. However, it’s only a matter of time before players begin clamoring for new content in the form of maps, game modes, and even an extension of the title itself in Spec Ops and a possible battle royale. Yet, it appears that there may already be a hint for the battle royale side of things thanks to a Spec Ops map. Reddit user Ghosthand373 posted a screenshot of the new ‘Open World Sandbox’ to the ModernWarfare subreddit, theorizing that it could be an initial hint of a BR map. In the image, remnants of classic Modern Warfare maps can be seen – including the jets of Scrapyard from Modern Warfare 2 – as well as plenty of buildings that could easily hold that all-important loot for a new mode. While, of course, this map is very well set for Modern Warfare’s Spec Ops mode, the use of classic backdrops does line up with some early ‘leaks’ about an absolutely huge battle royale mode. Now, that’s not to say that the mode is confirmed for the new release as Infinity Ward themselves haven’t confirmed or denied if they’ll be adding it in the future. Prior to the game’s release on October 25, Infinity Ward’s MP Design Director Joe Cecot claimed that the developer’s focus was solely on Multiplayer despite the fact that they are “big fans” of battle royales. It remains to be seen as to if they’ll get around to adding a battle royale mode, but with this huge map and the ability to have incredible player counts in Ground War, all the ingredients look to be in place.

  • Modern Warfare: New map and mode added for day two of Beta – Dexerto

Modern Warfare: New map and mode added for day two of Beta Call of Duty developers Infinity Ward have added a brand new map and mode to the currently ongoing Modern Warfare Beta, called Gun Runner and Cyber Attack respectively. As the closed portion of the Modern Warfare Beta on PlayStation 4 rolls on, Infinity Ward are keeping on their promise by adding new content, which happens to be both a new map and mode on September 13. The new map, Gun Runner, is a war-torn factory and distribution depot located nine kilometers outside of Verdansk, Russia. Like many of the other Modern Warfare maps revealed so far, it has considerable areas both indoors and outdoors, the latter of which has train cars scattered throughout that players can use for cover. Read More: Best guns to use in MW Beta – You can check out our video featuring gameplay footage from Domination on Gun Runner below, taken during the multiplayer capture event in early August. As for the new mode – Cyber Attack – it’s one that hasn’t really been seen before in Call of Duty titles of the past. The objective for the team on offense is to “retrieve the EMP Device and plant it near the enemy’s data center,” while the defending team has to try and stop that from happening. Read More: MW devs respond to no minimap – Much like Search and Destroy, this mode gives each team limited lives, however there’s a slight twist from classic S&D – surviving players can revive their eliminated teammates once during the round. A round can end in several ways: Team on offense can plant the EMP device near the enemy base and defend it long enough. – Team on defense can defuse the EMP device after it has been planted. – Teams can eliminate every opposing player and win off of eliminations. – You can check out gameplay and an explanation of Cyber Attack below, courtesy of IGN. September 13 is the final day that the Beta will be available only to those with early access, as it will be open for everyone to try out from September 14-16. The second week of the Beta kicks off on September 19 with early access for all platforms, before opening up to the public September 21-23. Modern Warfare will fully release on October 25, 2019 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

  • November 3 Modern Warfare leaks: new weapon camos, skins, emblems, more – Dexerto

November 3 Modern Warfare leaks: new weapon camos, skins, emblems, more New leaks have revealed an abundance of upcoming content for Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare. From flashy weapon camos to animated icons and more, there’s a look to look forward to in the near future. Modern Warfare released on October 25 with a brand new progression system in place, which saw Call of Duty players no longer able to prestige and reset their progress. New systems have been implemented such as seasonal challenges and Trials that allow the community to attain certain unlocks in various ways. While there’s already a large number of cosmetics to unlock, new leaks have unveiled a heap of upcoming content. The game launched with 20 Operators in total, nine for both the Coalition and Allegiance factions with additional default skins to boot. Based on newly leaked images from ‘That1MiningGuy’, each of the Operators could be getting an influx of skins very soon. From different color variants to different outfits, it seems as though there will be plenty of customization coming to Operators. As it currently stands, each character has three unlockable skins, but a future update could add these cosmetics to bump up the numbers. Next up the leaked images gave a look at a plethora of animated player cards. Typical for the Call of Duty series, animated cards are often reserved for some of the most difficult challenges in the game as they add that extra flair you just can’t get with static images. It appears as though each killstreak will have an associated player card and that there might even be some cosmetics you can unlock outside of the game itself. For instance, an aminated Activision Aces card could potentially be unlocked by interacting with the Call of Duty community on the Activision support forums. Additionally, the leaked intel gave us an initial glimpse at a wide array of player stickers that can be utilized on your favorite weapons. Ranging from a Call of Duty Endowment sticker to the Infinity Ward logo and even a classic nuke icon, there should be much more depth to weapon customization in the near future. Last but not least, an assortment of weapon skins were put on display. Whether these weapon camos will be exclusive to new blueprints or if they’ll be unlockable across all weapon types remains to be seen however. Hot pink camos for Assault Rifles and American Flag designs for SMG’s, if the leaks are to be trusted it’s safe to say that the current customization options in Modern Warfare are barely scratching the surface of what’s yet to come. With seasonal content playing a large role in Modern Warfare, it’s no surprise that new cosmetic content will be added with each passing season. Recently a huge list of potential maps and modes were leaked. Perhaps we could see these added to Modern Warfare alongside the newly leaked cosmetics in the next seasonal update.

  • Hardpoint named in leaked list of unavailable CoD Modern Warfare modes – Dexerto

Hardpoint named in leaked list of unavailable CoD Modern Warfare modes Activision – Call of Duty: Modern WarfareOne of the all-time great Call of Duty modes will allegedly not be available at the launch of the upcoming Modern Warfare release, according to new leaks. Modern Warfare is the most recent entry in the Call of Duty franchise from storied developers Infinity Ward, set to release on all platforms on October 25. The game’s beta period was met with a great deal of praise from pro players and streamers alike, but now it appears some expected content may be excluded at launch, including some of the most popular game modes from the FPS series. According to ‘TheGamingRevolution,’ who revealed the entire list on Twitter, fan-favorite Call of Duty mode Hardpoint may not be included in the pool of competitive modes at launch, with plans to potentially add it at a later stage. Other potentially excluded modes include the likes of Search and Rescue, which originated in Call of Duty: Ghosts, and Demolition, which has been a leading mode since Modern Warfare 2, as well as One in the Chamber, Infected, Gun Game, and Team Juggernaut. Some post Launch modes in Modern Warfare: Search and Rescue (might be removed altogether) One in the chamber Infected Hardpoint Drop Zone Defender Demolition Invasion (with hardcore – might be removed) Gun Game Reinforce Team Juggernaut— TheGamingRevolution (@TheGamingRevoYT) October 7, 2019 A staple in the past few years of competitive Call of Duty, Hardpoint is an objective-based mode that requires players to stand within a capture zone to accumulate points. With the objective constantly changing location throughout the course of a map, teams couldn’t remain stagnant. This forced players to be cognizant of enemy spawns, Hardpoint rotations, and more, creating entertaining and exciting clashes in the pro CoD scene. With news of the mode supposedly not being available at launch, Call of Duty fans could not have been more frustrated, and took to social media to express their disappointment at the potential exclusion. Reddit user ‘Nickaap’ even went as far as to issue a damning prediction of the future, state “we’re in for a rough year folks” to the rest of the annoyed fans. This is just one of many leaks out of the Call of Duty community lately. Among the information that has been shared thus far, it appears as though Modern Warfare could be getting a Battle Royale mode down the line. You can find a list of all maps supposedly available at launch right here, and according to an earlier post, fans might also be able to expect the return of Modern Warfare 2’s Rust map.

  • Modern Warfare leaks reveal CSGO-style weapon animations coming soon – Dexerto

Modern Warfare leaks reveal CSGO-style weapon animations coming soon Infinity Ward[jwplayer m8miFj2M]Custom Blueprints across Modern Warfare and Warzone will soon be admired in all-new ways as fresh leaks have revealed Counter-Strike: Global Offensive-type animations on the way. Infinity Ward’s latest entry in the Call of Duty franchise offers a great deal of weapon customization. Players can fine-tune dozens of attachments and adjust the visual appearance of every gun in the game. Custom designs transfer across both regular multiplayer and Warzone’s expansive Battle Royale modes as well. Despite nearing the end of Modern Warfare’s time in the spotlight – as Treyarch’s 2020 release draws near – Warzone is still pressing forward. Regular updates and huge seasonal changes are continuously pumped out as the free to play release is set to carry on through the next generation of consoles. As a result, certain refinements and brand-new additions are still in the works. One such addition seems to be a huge set of weapon animations in the same vein as those in Valve’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. A July 6 video showcases new ways to admire your guns in Modern Warfare. The leak highlights animations for the MP5, the Grau 5.56, along with the RAM-7. Similar to CS:GO’s weapon inspections, players will soon be able to view their custom Blueprints from new in-game angles. Your Operator will display the weapon with one hand, holding it to the side before rotating it and gripping properly once again. The leaked animations appear nearly identical across Submachine Guns and Assault Rifles, however, so there’s no telling if there will be any variation with other weapon types. Though you would imagine heavier weapons such as Light Machine Guns or Rocket Launchers would have their own. Inspecting weapons has long been a popular feature in CS:GO, as players flaunt their most valuable skins. With certain Modern Warfare cosmetics pushing players to their limits to unlock, it could be a welcomed addition to have new ways of showing them off. There’s no indicating when these may be deployed across Modern Warfare and Warzone. Given that these animations were plucked from the game’s files, they could still be in early development. Perhaps a future seasonal update will sneak them in, or maybe they’ll be held off for quite some time. In the meantime, there’s plenty of fresh content being added to the Battle Royale. New Spotter Scopes can be used to track enemies from afar, while pivotal killstreaks could soon be appearing in Buy Stations.

  • Modern Warfare leakers reveal early look at new Season 4 weapons – Dexerto

Modern Warfare leakers reveal early look at new Season 4 weapons Infinity WardA host of Call of Duty data miners have revealed weapons from Modern Warfare’s game files, that are potentially set to be added in the upcoming Season 4. With Modern Warfare’s fourth season set to begin in early June, Call of Duty players are eagerly anticipating everything Infinity Ward coming next. Each season brings with it a plethora of new content, including new weapons. Original leaks came from Reddit u/JeaneJWE, who shared information they had received pertaining to a host of weapons found in Modern Warfare’s game files. The information they provide relates to the APC9 SMG, Vector SMG, HK G28 DMR, Galil AR and XM109 semi-auto rifle. Vector and Galil coming to Modern Warfare? When it comes to the weapons players can expect to see in Season 4, the Redditor explains that the APC9 is pretty far down the list because it has been present in the game files since launch. “Therefore, I believe that Season 4 will launch with the Vector and Galil as two new weapons,” they speculate, “and the G28 will arrive later as the midseason weapon.” Read More: How to slide cancel in Modern Warfare – To compound these game files, reputable CoD leaker and YouTuber ‘TheGamingRevolution’ has revealed an early look at some of the weapons, giving us an idea of how far along the development line some of the weapons really are. Like the Redditor, TGR indicates that the Galil is very likely to come in Season 4, even providing audio of the weapon from an anonymous source. Similar footage is provided for the Vector, an SMG that has featured in multiple Call of Duty titles, including Infinity Ward’s CoD: Ghosts. Assuming both weapons come to Modern Warfare, they will also be available in Warzone in the form of loadout drops. The fact that both weapons are available to view through game files indicates they are almost ready for launch. Obviously the news remains unconfirmed, and there is no guarantee that any weapons in the game files will ever make the final game. What is interesting to note is that the Galil has never featured in an Infinity Ward game. It has featured in every iteration of Treyarch’s Black Ops series, but was scrapped from 2016’s Modern Warfare Remastered. It certainly looks like the Vector and the Galil are set to be added to Modern Warfare, but things can change quickly in the development process. We’ll have to wait for official confirmation from Infinity Ward.

  • Modern Warfare leaker reveals full list of maps available at launch – Dexerto

Modern Warfare leaker reveals full list of maps available at launch Infinity WardInfamous Call of Duty leaker and YouTuber TheGamingRevolution has claimed to reveal the full list of maps that will be available at launch, when Modern Warfare drops on October 25. As the release date for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare edges nearer, information is trickling out , and while much of it is unconfirmed, it highlights the excitement of fans to get their hands on the latest installment in the CoD series. One well-known and reputable leaker is TheGamingRevolution, who has previously been correct in his predictions for a 2v2 Gunfight mode, among other things. October 5, he claimed to reveal the full list of maps that will be available to play at launch. In a series of tweets, TheGamingRevolution claimed that Modern Warfare will launch with just 10 normal maps, aimed at traditional 6v6 and 10v10 gameplay. It will also have 7 maps specific to Gunfight mode, the 2v2 mode that is making its Call of Duty debut in Modern Warfare. Read More: Censor joins Call of Duty franchise team – Finally, Modern Warfare will launch with 3 Ground War maps, the 32v32 mode that many fans are comparing to a Battlefield-esque experience. 10 normal maps may seem to be on the low end of the spectrum, but recent CoD titles have tended to launch with fewer maps, with promises of exhaustive DLC content. This has happened with Modern Warfare, a game Activision promised will see a plethora of post-launch content. However, it was not just the number of maps detailed by TheGamingRevolution. He also listed the names of the maps, some of which will be familiar to those that played the Beta. There will also be night variants of certain maps, which players will experience with night-vision goggles. The Gunfight maps available at launch will be: Hill – King (also available in night mode) – Docks – Pine – Showers – Speedball – Stack – The Ground War maps available at launch will be: Karst River Quarry – Downtown Donetsk – Farms – Finally, the ‘normal’ maps available at launch will be: Aniyah Palace – Cave (also available in night mode) – Deadzone – Euphrates Bridge – Hackney Yard (also available in night mode) – Granza Raid – Piccadilly – Petrograd – Gun Runner (also available in night mode) – Spear (also available in night mode) – While obviously unconfirmed, the list provided by TheGamingRevolution would fit with what has been suggested from leaked PC files. However, as the final few weeks of development takes place, much will be open to change as Infinity Ward refine their game. Finally, TGR stated that there more maps being worked on by Infinity Ward, including remakes of some old favorites, but these will not be available at launch. Over the past few weeks, there has been increased speculation regarding the remastering of certain fan-favorite maps, including the infamous Rust from MW2. There’s lots of other maps in development too, such as remakes, but they won’t be at launch. — TheGamingRevolution (@TheGamingRevoYT) October 5, 2019 Once again, this remains unconfirmed, but would fit with a recent trend in Call of Duty titles. Black Ops 4 provided many remastered maps, including Slums from Black Ops II, and Summit from the original Black Ops. Stay tuned to Dexerto for all the latest Modern Warfare leaks and rumors.

  • Modern Warfare leaker reveals first look at Rytec AMR sniper in Season 4 – Dexerto

Modern Warfare leaker reveals first look at Rytec AMR sniper in Season 4 Infinity WardA Call of Duty leaker by the name ‘BKTOOR’ has shared the first gameplay of the upcoming Rytec AMR sniper rifle, coming to Modern Warfare and Warzone during the ongoing Season 4. The Modern Warfare Season 4 roadmap, released back when the new season officially launched, gave us our first official glimpse at the Rytec AMR sniper rifle, the first DLC sniper to come to Modern Warfare. Leaked data files have suggested that the sniper will be a semi-auto weapon, similar to the Barrett .50 Cal snipers we have seen in older Infinity Ward CoDs. These suggestions appear confirmed by leaked footage, revealed by BKTOOR, who shared a first look at the gun’s current build in Modern Warfare. At a first glance, the gun shares similarities with both the AX-50 and the HDR. In fact, for an unknown reason, the weapon currently appears under the AX-50’s name, and with a similar sniper scope. However, its properties couldn’t be more different from the AX-50. BKTOOR shows the weapon to have a fairly fast semi-automatic fire rate. However, unlike the Barrett .50 Cals of older Call of Duty games, it also appears to have minimal recoil. Modern Warfare players have long been waiting for another sniper rifle, and the Rytec AMR’s confirmation as semi-automatic may affect its popularity. The most popular snipers in Call of Duty tend to be bolt-action. سنايبر Rytec AMR بعد ما عدلوا عليها صار فيها ريكول الحين !! كان اسمها Rytek AMR #ModernWarfare pic.twitter.com/1AiUDJQwN1— ᴮᴷᵀᴼᴼᴿ (@BKTOOR_) June 12, 2020 Unfortunately, there is no release date news alongside the footage, so it remains unclear when in Season 4 the Rytec AMR will actually find its way into both Modern Warfare and Warzone. We’ve already had confirmation from Infinity Ward’s Joe Cecot that weapon tuning – including nerfs to the Grau – will be coming in the mid-season update, which could also be a date for the release of the Rytec AMR. Given Modern Warfare’s seasons tend to be around two months long, this would see Season 4’s mid-season update coming around early-mid July. We will, of course, continue to update you on all the latest content coming to Modern Warfare and Warzone.

  • Modern Warfare leaker claims to reveal size of Warzone battle royale map – Dexerto

Modern Warfare leaker claims to reveal size of Warzone battle royale map ActivisionCall of Duty players are looking forward to the reveal of Modern Warfare‘s Warzone battle royale mode, which is expected to be confirmed soon, and one leaker might have shown off the size of the map ahead of schedule. Members of the CoD community was hoping that Infinity Ward would answer their prayers by revealing a brand new BR mode for their first-person shooter game with the launch of Season 2, but it never turned out that way. Instead, a classified mode – immediately locked and not ready for action – was instead included in the update, leaving fans chomping at the bit for more answers. Now, though, one leaker claims to have an inside scoop on the size of the map and it may surprise you. ModernWarzone has posted a photo on social media, the official Twitter account of the Modern Warzone subreddit, comparing both the new map and that of Blackout in Black Ops 4, showing just how big the Warzone one may be in comparison to the home of Call of Duty’s first battle royale. It’s not often that we see the same maps appear in games developed by Infinity Ward and Treyarch, although that could all be about to change according to this source. Most battle royale games are limited to around 100 players per session, but if this is anything to go by – along with the original leak, posted in November 2019, suggesting it will have 200 players – it looks likely that CoD could be one of, if not the, biggest battle royale around. https://twitter.com/WarzoneModern/status/1229269078042402816 The map doesn’t show any named locations that may be coming, although it does appear to include an extended coastline, a huge stadium-like structure to the East and even a landing strip to the North – which could be a hint towards planes joining the action. Helicopters were included in the original Blackout game mode. Nothing has actually been confirmed for Modern Warfare’s classified mode and that’s worth noting, because leaked information isn’t always accurate and even when it is, developers tend to tweak things continuously until release anyway. There has, however, been a teaser trailer revealed, hinting at the imminent arrival of a battle royale mode, as well as leaked gameplay and images that have been struck down by the developers. Whether the next Call of Duty battle royale mode will be played on a larger map than Blackout or not remains to be seen, but some fans will certainly be crossing their fingers for something along those lines coming to fruition.

  • Modern Warfare leaker claims to reveal Season 2 & battle royale details – Dexerto

Modern Warfare leaker claims to reveal Season 2 & battle royale details Infinity WardCall of Duty YouTuber TheGamingRevolution claims to have revealed new information about Modern Warfare season two, including brand new quests and details about the still-unconfirmed battle royale mode. Following the path set by Fortnite and their battle pass, many other multiplayer titles have followed suit – splitting their new additions into ‘seasons’ and dropping plenty of new content like maps, cosmetics, and challenges to play through. For Modern Warfare, the first season kicked off back in December, adding the iconic map of Crash. The end date for the season has since been pushed back, and while some fans might be questioning why, and what they can look forward to, CoD leaker TheGamingRevolution has claimed to have some early information. In his newest upload, the YouTuber claimed to have gotten his hands on the in-game strings that reveal what has been added by the developers. His first reveal came in the form of four new quest lines that have challenges inside – including one that involves running players over with vehicles. Aside from that, TheGamingRevolution also noted that he had some new information about the supposed battle royale mode inside Modern Warfare – claiming to have been sent a loading screen for when the mode actually becomes available. He also claimed that a source within Infinity Ward explained that the battle royale has been “delayed” in line with the season one end date as it “needs more time.” However, that doesn’t mean that it is absolutely coming with season two. The sourced noted that it is a possibility, but the BR could also come in season three, or be canceled altogether if it doesn’t “release soon.” While there’s no solid information on what maps could come in season two, there are some new modes seemingly coming, as logos for One in the Chamber and All or Nothing have been added to the game’s files. As for other content, the YouTuber speculated that there would be a new operator in the form of the Ghost of Verdansk as his face and logo has been appearing on multiplayer maps. There could also be two weapons as well, with an SMG, LMG, and Ballistic Knife surfacing in different files. As ever, while the YouTuber has proven to have good information in the past, it’s always worth taking everything with a pinch of salt until it is available in-game. After all, Infinity Ward could very well change their minds depending on a number of factors – including scrapping things altogether because they’ve been leaked. We’ll just have to wait and see.

  • Modern Warfare leaker claims to reveal details on Battle Royale, DLC weapons and more – Dexerto

Modern Warfare leaker claims to reveal details on Battle Royale, DLC weapons and more An infamous Call of Duty leaker has posted a slew of new information about the upcoming Modern Warfare, which he claims to be direct from a source close to Infinity Ward, including information on battle royale, mini-map and more. Modern Warfare is now less than two months out from release, meaning the game’s finer points are now being finalized, but the developers have remained tight-lipped about many aspects, at least until the public beta begins on September 12. With so many burning questions in the community, fans have relied on leakers for their thirst for knowledge, and YouTuber TheGamingRevolution (TGR) has already provided some accurate details ahead of official confirmation. On September 2, the YouTuber answered a series of questions from excited fans about the new game, claiming that his source at or close to Infinity Ward would provide answers where possible. It should be noted that this information cannot be verified, and so should be taken with a grain of salt. However, as mentioned, TGR does have a somewhat consistent record of leaks. Battle Royale in Modern Warfare? According to TGR’s source, “Battle Royale is 100%” in Modern Warfare, “We considered dropping it from the game at one point, but we reworked it a ton, and we really think it’s going to stand out from other Battle Royale’s in its current state. More info soon.” “”Battle Royale is 100% a thing. More info soon.”” https://t.co/skFaCbESjr — TheGamingRevolution (@TheGamingRevoYT) September 3, 2019 DLC Weapons? Black Ops 4 sparked an old controversy in Call of Duty by having DLC weapons only available in luck-based supply drops (loot boxes), and players are understandably desperate not to see the tactic employed in Modern Warfare too. According to TGR’s source: “As of right now, we want all DLC weapons to come free for everyone. This may change though, you’ll have to ask Activision that one.” “”As of right now, we want all DLC weapons to come free for everyone. It was revealed at the Multiplayer event in August that Modern Warfare would not feature a traditional mini-map by default, a first for the franchise. However, according to the source, Infinity Ward are “definitely” open to reconsidering this following beta feedback. This lines up with what Art Director Joel Emslie has already confirmed though, so there isn’t much new here. “”Oh boi. Yes, definitely. We’re waiting until after the beta to make that decision.”” https://t.co/brB7cr4osx — TheGamingRevolution (@TheGamingRevoYT) September 3, 2019 The return of Clan Wars? Clan Wars haven’t been seen in Call of Duty since Advanced Warfare, but the source claims they are back for Modern Warfare. Unfortunately, they give no further details. Clan Wars are back https://t.co/t9VenTZbbu — TheGamingRevolution (@TheGamingRevoYT) September 3, 2019 Will there be a firing range? Not the Black Ops 1 map – this is referring to the firing range that was available in games like WWII and Modern Warfare Remastered, where you could practice with your classes in the lobby. However, with the ability to edit classes mid-game now available in Modern Warfare, this firing range feature was deemed unnecessary, the source claims. Unfortunately, the source didn’t comment on the possibility of theater mode. “”In regards to firing range, we thought about adding one, but we were like, wait, just give them the ability to change their class in game. DUH. So we did (: It just saved time and you guys have been asking for this for years”” https://t.co/It7VlTLgv8 — TheGamingRevolution (@TheGamingRevoYT) September 3, 2019 3rd person mode? Modern Warfare 2 featured the only third-person perspective mode ever featured in CoD with ‘3rd person team tactical’ – it won’t be back in Modern Warfare though, the source claims. “”I loved this mode in MW2, but no, sadly”” https://t.co/QzKLeyj1jD — TheGamingRevolution (@TheGamingRevoYT) September 3, 2019 Prestige levels The source doesn’t give much away about the leveling system in Modern Warfare multiplayer, but claims that there will be 55 levels per prestige. “”Small info only ? 🙁 okay….. levels 1-55″” https://t.co/FCeL3kyo8C — TheGamingRevolution (@TheGamingRevoYT) September 3, 2019 Other details leaked include the ability to prestige weapons, confirmation that all weapon camos are currently ‘realistic’ and that ‘Red Tiger’ is back, and that Nuke’s will game-ending, like in MW2. Again, all of these details are not confirmed, and as the game is still in development, even if true it is all subject to change. Modern Warfare releases on October 25 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

  • Modern Warfare leaker claims multiple fan-favorite modes are returning – Dexerto

Modern Warfare leaker claims multiple fan-favorite modes are returning Infinity WardInfamous Call of Duty leaker ‘TheGamingRevolution’ has claimed that Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare will see the return of a number of fan-favorite modes, that have recently fallen out of favor with CoD developers. While certain game modes like Hardpoint and Domination are all but guaranteed to be included in Call of Duty, the less popular ones are at risk of being cut, in order to save developers time and effort which could be wasted on underplayed modes, and to keep playlists populated. Infinity Ward have already confirmed that certain new game modes failed to make the cut, including one known as ‘Combat Outpost’. TheGamingRevolution is known for leaking information on upcoming Call of Duty titles, and claims that a number of fan-favorite game modes will be returning to Modern Warfare. While we will definitely see long-time favorites return, the leaker claims that Infinity Ward came up with over 80 concepts for game modes, the majority of which are unlikely to make the game’s release. Most CoD titles launch with roughly 15-20 game modes, including Hardcore variants of base modes. One of the first modes the YouTuber claims will be returning is similar to Team Defender, which last featured in 2011’s Modern Warfare 3. This mode saw one player hold onto a flag, while their team tries to defend them from attacking enemies. Modern Warfare will also see “a variant of Demolition”. Demolition has been a popular mode for many years in Call of Duty, but has not featured in a CoD title since Infinite Warfare (it was added as an LTM in Modern Warfare Remastered and Infinite Warfare). Similarly, a mode “similar” to Cranked will be making a return. Cranked launched in Ghosts and made a late return to Infinite Warfare. The final feature TheGamingRevolution claims is making a comeback is Clan Wars, from Call of Duty: Ghosts. This saw the use of the Call of Duty app to pit ‘clans’ against one another depending on their in-game performances. It is not new to see variation in CoD game modes. For example, Uplink was a popular game mode throughout all of CoD’s advanced movement titles. It was renamed as Gridiron in WWII, but did not feature in the pro scene as it had in the preceding years. It was then dropped entirely from Black Ops 4. It’s also notable that the game modes listed by TheGamingRevolution have tended to feature in Infinity Ward titles, so it seems believable that they could feature in some way in Modern Warfare. While definitely possible, it’s important to remember that none of these game modes are confirmed and things can change very quickly in the development process. We’ll have to wait and see which modes are included when Modern Warfare drops on October 25.

  • Modern Warfare leak shows Warzone battle royale will support 200 players – Dexerto

Modern Warfare leak shows Warzone battle royale will support 200 players Infinity WardA glitched menu in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has revealed a new glimpse at the unreleased Warzone battle royale mode, which apparently will support up to 200 players in a single lobby. The hype surrounding Modern Warfare’s battle royale has been at an all-time high in recent days after the launch of Season 2 led to a flurry of leaks about the unreleased mode. It seems like every day now a new leak or glitch sheds further light on Warzone that’s supposedly coming soon, even though Infinity Ward and Activision haven’t officially announced or even acknowledged it. The latest leak comes courtesy of a glitch within the game itself, as a player who loaded into MW noticed that the new tab that was previously locked and labeled as ‘Classified’ in the main menu was instead showing the BR’s alleged name and was fully accessible. Under Warzone, there was a description of the mode revealing that it supports up to 200 players – a detail that had previously only been seen in unofficial leaks and never actually in-game. If true, this would make Warzone the largest-scale BR in terms of player-count. The description was in German; when translated to English, it read: “Plunge into a unique battle with up to 200 other players to leave the battle as the last survivor.” The player also posted a video of it on Twitter, showing how the previously-locked new middle tab was showing as Warzone on his screen. When he scrolled over to the tab, it started playing a cinematic in the background much like the other main menu options for the campaign, multiplayer, and Spec-Ops. Read More: Leaked MW Warzone gameplay reveals new info – The short little scenes shown in the background video all looked like classic battle royale content: players dropping out of a plane onto the map, characters armed with guns traveling in squads, and a zoomed out shot of the large-scale map. On February 13, actual gameplay footage of the mode was posted online after a similar glitch was allowing players to access and even play a little bit of the BR. The footage revealed some important details about the mode’s features and mechanics, such as Drop Kits, Plunder, the full list of purchasable equipment, as well as the five types of vehicles, various modes, and more. As for when Warzone will be released, no one seems to know that yet since there’s been no official word from Infinity Ward or Activision. However, the speculation is that it’ll be launched sooner rather than later, considering all of the leaks that have surfaced and where we are in the game’s life cycle.

  • Modern Warfare leak reveals Village map may not be a remake after all – Dexerto

Modern Warfare leak reveals Village map may not be a remake after all r/ModernWarfareOne of the next maps to arrive in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Village, won’t actually be a remake of the original MW3 classic, data miners have revealed. Following a playlist update on April 3, it was all but confirmed two new places to play – Village and Backlot – were going to be added to the game soon. Loading graphics for both of them could be seen in the menus, as reported by CharlieIntel. That news led many fans to believe this would be the return of two classic maps, continuing Infinity Ward’s rollout of remade versions, including Rust and Shipment. However, a new leak has potentially debunked those presumptions, claiming that Village will actually be something we’ve never seen before. In a post to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare subreddit, user Senescallo has posted a graphic found in the game’s files, showing the size of the map. They said: “Season 3’s Village is not a Modern Warfare 3 Remake,” accompanied by a graphic of the map. As many Modern Warfare 3 players will remember, Village didn’t have the same layout. In fact, it’s very different. As for what the map will look like, all eyes are now turned to Infinity Ward and their official announcements. However, we have seen leaked images of the new Village surface in the past. The same leaker had previously revealed images of the two maps on the subreddit, and they have since been spotted in-game, seen in the loading screens. Now we have a better idea of what Village may look like – as always, take leaks with a pinch of salt – it remains to be seen if Backlot will also be given a shakeup as well. The plot thickens.

  • Modern Warfare leak reveals gameplay of CoD 4 sniper R700 for Season 5 – Dexerto

Modern Warfare leak reveals gameplay of CoD 4 sniper R700 for Season 5 Infinity WardModern Warfare leakers have revealed an in-game look at a classic Call of Duty sniper rifle, the R700, and claimed it could be added to the game in Season 5. With Infinity Ward bringing back weapons such as the Galil and Vector in recent seasons, it now looks as if a classic sniper rifle from past titles might also be added for Modern Warfare and Warzone players. Dataminers have revealed an early look at this new bolt action rifle and claimed that the R700 might be one of the next weapons introduced in Season 5. Early look at R700 in Modern Warfare The R700, which first made its appearance in CoD 4, is known for its incredible one-shot damage potential and could rival weapons like the HDR and AX-50 in Modern Warfare and Warzone. An early look of the new weapon was leaked by BKTOOR, who revealed that it was still unfinished despite being added to the game files. Although the new rifle is still being tested, the CoD leaker was still hopeful that the R700 might be released at some point during Season 5. قيمبلاي لسلاح سنايبر / ماركسمان R700 طبعا السلاح غير مكتمل The R700 is broken & unfinished Either a sniper or marksman hope we see it in S5 https://t.co/hxEeHCjkEK pic.twitter.com/Gf8lDvbrCS— ᴮᴷᵀᴼᴼᴿ (@BKTOOR_) August 1, 2020 However, with the sniper still unfinished and Season 5 kicking off on August 5, it is possible that the R700 could be added later in the season. “First look at the bolt action R700, not complete module.” the data miner shared, “Hope it’s a mid-season weapon.” While it has been classed a sniper rifle in past Call of Duty titles, it could also be moving into the Marksman Rifle category in Modern Warfare, similar to the Kar98k. This new weapon is still yet to be confirmed by Infinity Ward and players will likely have to wait until August 5 before the MW devs reveal more bout the upcoming season.

  • Modern Warfare leak reveals first look at returning classic CoD weapon – Dexerto

Modern Warfare leak reveals first look at returning classic CoD weapon Infinity WardCall of Duty leaker and YouTuber TheGamingRevolution has revealed the first in-game look at a classified Modern Warfare light-machine gun that will be released in Season 3. The much-anticipated release of Modern Warfare’s third season brought many changes such as new maps, operators, and even some new weapons. Infinity Ward had much more in-store for Season 3, however, revealing that even more maps and content would be released over the course of the new season. The SKS and the Renetti were introduced on April 8, and Infinity Ward teased that they would also be adding a classified LMG at some point in the season. Modern Warfare leaker TheGamingRevolution shared a short gameplay clip of the unreleased LMG which is currently listed under the code name ‘LM-MKILO3.’ The YouTuber, along with many CoD fans, claimed that from the short clip that was shared, the upcoming LMG looks incredibly similar to one of the Modern Warfare series’ classic weapons, the M249 SAW. Topic starts at 0:26 for mobile users. The M249 SAW has only been added to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and the remastered title’s multiplayer in the past, although it has made its appearance in the MW2 and Black Ops campaign. While the unreleased weapon’s details weren’t fully rendered out in the leaked gameplay, many were still confident that the iconic LMG looked set to make its return. TheGamingRevolution hinted that the M249 could be released as early as April 28, as Infinity Ward has announced a significant update will be added on that date. As is the case with all leaks, the information surrounding the classified LMG is not yet confirmed by Infinity Ward and is still subject to change before the weapon’s release in Season 3.

  • Modern Warfare leak claims new CoD league will use 5 modes and new ‘reverse-CTF’ – Dexerto

Modern Warfare leak claims new CoD league will use 5 modes and new ‘reverse-CTF’ Infinity Ward / TreyarchA new Modern Warfare leak has surfaced the shines a light on what the competitive format could look like for next season’s Call of Duty franchised league. With developers Infinity Ward still keeping silent on the Multiplayer side of things in Modern Warfare, players are still in the dark in terms of what to expect from CoD’s 2019 installment. From a competitive standpoint, MW Multiplayer will play an even larger role than previous titles, since CoD esports will be transitioning to a city-based franchised league for the first time in its history. Although there’s little information currently available about the league, YouTuber ‘TheGamingRevolution’ claims to have insider knowledge about which game modes will be in the official competitive rotation. According to newly leaked details, there will be game modes featured – Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Capture the Flag, Domination, and Infection. 5 game modes in CWL (that I previously stated) are HP, SnD, Infection, CTF, DOM — TheGamingRevolution (@TheGamingRevoYT) July 10, 2019 While the other four modes have been used in CoD esports at one point or another, the only one that will be a complete novelty is Infection, a brand new mode apparently coming to Modern Warfare. According to the YouTuber, Infection will be essentially be a reversed version of CTF, in that players will be required to take their team’s flag to the enemy base. In classic CTF, the objective for teams is to infiltrate the enemy side, steal their flag, and navigate back to their own side and capture it. New mode featured in CWL called infection. It’s reverse CTF. You bring your flag to the enemy’s base instead of capturing theirs and bringing it to your base. — TheGamingRevolution (@TheGamingRevoYT) July 10, 2019 For those that may be doubting the YouTuber’s supposed leaks, he does have some credibility when it comes to providing unreleased information ahead of time. He recently leaked a new mode coming to MW called Gunfight, which ended up being confirmed as an actual mode just a short time later, and is the first thing on the list in Multiplayer that will be revealed to the public. Popular streamers and content creators have announced that they will be unveiling Gunfight for the first time on July 11, and you can watch those reveal streams live HERE. For those of you who do not believe me: I leaked gunfight mode a couple weeks ago now and it was just confirmed today. (Yes, some people still don’t believe me lol) Battle Royale is 100% in Modern Warfare. pic.twitter.com/mtAKEdUmU5 — TheGamingRevolution (@TheGamingRevoYT) July 10, 2019 Of course, if theses claims turn out to be true, then next season’s competitive format will feature two more modes than the one used in Black Ops 4, which only features Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, and Control. The return of Domination will likely create a buzz among competitive players; the fan-favorite mode hasn’t been featured in competitive for several years now. However, it does seem unlikely that the rotation will feature both CTF and Infection, since the two are so similar to each other, and Activision could opt to use the brand new mode to inject interest into the esport.

  • Modern Warfare leaderboard’s top player is more than a little suspicious – Dexerto

Modern Warfare leaderboard’s top player is more than a little suspicious This Call of Duty: Modern Warfare player’s standing at the top of the global rankings is quite questionable when you consider some of the statistics they field. Mostly because they’re impossible. Dedicated players from far and wide have been grinding to see their stats soar high up on the Modern Warfare leaderboards. Being a staple of the Call of Duty franchise, players have longed for that pole position to show-off their hard work. So is the number one spot in the world worth it, if it’s not earned? One Modern Warfare player seems to think so, as they’ve instituted a hack of some type to control the top spot on the leaderboard. Anon83838719 not only retains one of the more clever and unique usernames in Call of Duty right now, but also stands alone on top of the mountain — as a testament to what abusing a system can accomplish. Anon has generated a score of over 121 million, which has left second place on the leaderboard in the dust, with a score that just barely squeaks over 11 million. Anon’s dedication is second to none, as he’s played Modern Warfare for 6799 days and 20 hours, despite the game only being released on October 25. That means he’s been playing the new Modern Warfare for over 18 years, and has completed almost 800 million games in that time. A truly astounding feat. Analytics paint a poor picture of Anon’s efficiency, however, as these numbers mean he averages a score of only .15 points per game. By contrast, other players on the leaderboard have an average score number in the thousands. This is due to the fact if they played nearly 800 million games, across 6800 days of non-stop playing. To break that down further, they average over 117,000 games per day, at an average of .73 seconds per day. It’s hard to get a high score per game when your games run that short. Jokes aside, this is obviously some abuse of the ranking system. This ‘anonymous’ player has been able to game the system to make it look like they’ve played 18 years of Modern Warfare in less than a month. All other sites that track active Modern Warfare leaderboard rankings don’t even have the anonymous player’s listing on their boards. Leaderboards were something that was frequently asked for by Call of Duty fans in the previous iteration, Black Ops 4 — having been a feature at the heart of the CoD multiplayer experience for quite some time. Fans of the series made frequent attempts to get Treyarch to add leaderboards to the game, including signing a petition, but the inclusion never came. We reached out to Anon83838719 for comment on his achievement, but they were too busy playing hundreds of Modern Warfare games in less than a minute to issue a statement on their ‘achievement’.

Modern Warfare launch on PC: International timezones, how to preload, more With the release of Modern Warfare around the corner, Activision have revealed details surrounding the PC launch — including launch time, preload information and a brand new trailer. After the success of the record-breaking Modern Warfare beta, the next iteration of Call of Duty franchise is highly anticipated. Bolstered by the announcement of the removal of supply drops and exclusive dependence on a battle pass, fans around the world are excited at the prospect of a refreshed economy system. With further emphasis on the PC experience for this year’s Call of Duty, Activision have explained when PC players can expect to get into the action. When will Modern Warfare go live on PC? The official global launch time for PC is 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET (October 24) and 2AM BST (October 25). However, players can preload Modern Warfare on Blizzard’s Battle.net ahead of launch. When can you preload MW on PC? Preloading begins on October 22 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST, for those who have already made the purchase. Alongside pre-load information, a brand new trailer was dropped which showcases footage captured entirely on PC. According to the blog post and trailer, the PC version of Modern Warfare will boast 4K graphics and support an uncapped frame-rate. Alongside this, players have been teased with “expansive customization options”, with Activision claiming that: “the PC version of Modern Warfare sets a new high water-mark for customization, featuring more customization options than we’ve ever had in a Call of Duty game.” Moreover, both ultra-wide and multi-monitor support will be making its way to Modern Warfare, and as initially experienced in the beta, crossplay is fully supported on the PC version. Activision have provided a full list of PC specifications, filtered by each level of play. It is worth noting that the launch times above are for the PC version of Modern Warfare. For consoles, digital orders will go live at midnight local time on October 25, aside from North America, where the game will be accessible from 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET.

  • Modern Warfare to have “largest post-launch content” in Call of Duty history – Dexerto

Modern Warfare to have “largest post-launch content” in Call of Duty history ActivisionActivision Blizzard have announced that the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title will feature a heavy load of new content to be released after launch. On August, Activision Blizzard held a conference call for their quarterly financial report, dissecting the financial status of their company for the fiscal quarter that ended on June 30, 2019. As expected, one of the topics they touched up on was Modern Warfare, which will be the 2019 installment of the popular first-person-shooter series. The publishers are hoping to set a very strong impression with this title, including what apparently will be a level of post-launch content never seen before in the franchise’s history. “We have the largest post-launch content pipeline in history,” they said, when discussing Modern Warfare’s upcoming release. What is included in post-launch content? Post-launch content is a generic term used to cover the variety of additions made to a game on top of everything it already had when it was first launched. In Call of Duty, this generally includes new weapons, maps, game modes, cosmetic items, playable characters, and more. Activision had already confirmed that, for the first time in CoD history, Modern Warfare will not feature a paid Season Pass, meaning that all new maps released as part of DLC will be free and available to all players. The Season Pass concept was implemented back in 2011, and every CoD title released since Modern Warfare 3 has featured content placed behind an annual $50 pay wall. What about microtransactions? While the language may be trying to suggest otherwise, the lack of a Season Pass does not rule out Modern Warfare having microtransactions (MTX). In fact, considering that Activision will lose the$50 passes as a major revenue source, it almost makes it seem more likely that MTX will, once again, play a major role in a CoD title. Read More: Modern Warfare Spec Ops details revealed – The quarterly financial report on August 8 revealed that the company made $800 million in revenue from MTX over the second quarter, and the profit margins from Black Ops 4 MTX are on track to significantly surpass the WWII title from last year. Speaking of Black Ops 4, the game’s MTX system is widely considered to be the worst in the history of the franchise, with some new weapons only available via loot boxes, melee weapons put on sale for outrageous prices, cosmetics locked in the item shop and more. Players can only hope that Activision Blizzard have taken in the largely negative feedback about microtransactions and made fundamental improvements for Modern Warfare.

That is, of course, if the person maneuvering it can keep the six-wheeled rover on its driveable side over the course of the killstreak. If not, then they could be met with a hilarious change in perspective, like user ‘Bubbins123’ showed during their game on Gun Runner. Maneuvering through the refinery plant, the player was coasting until they hit the Train Yard’s terrain which started to prove too much for the Wheelson. It looks like one side of the drone was propped on the train tracks below it. When moving up on a barrel, this caused the Wheelson to flip on its side. This made the killstreak bug out, at first the game showed the player’s camera tilted while still in the killstreak before it started to get jumpy trying to reorient its overall position. Shortly after, the killstreak ended but not before completely altering the camera of the player’s in-game character model after exiting the Wheelson’s perspective. “Dude had this happen to me with a Cluster Strike,” another player said in response to the clip, noting how it happened to them after using a different killstreak. “The game hit a serious lag spike and next thing I knew I came out with a 30 degree angle to the right.” While this could be a reason for the bug, more people in the CoD community shared their experiences with a tilted camera after calling in a killstreak. The Infinity Ward devs are actively working on fixing the biggest problems in the game, like Warzone’s demon gun glitch, among others. If this bug proves to be a bigger problem for more Call of Duty players, then the Modern Warfare devs could step in to find a meaningful fix to the glitch.

  • Modern Warfare June 23 patch notes: Warzone Quads, new MP modes, more – Dexerto

Modern Warfare June 23 patch notes: Warzone Quads, new MP modes, more Infinity Ward[jwplayer br5AuoVJ] Call of Duty developers Infinity Ward have released a new playlist update for Modern Warfare and Warzone – one that’s brought back Battle Royale Quads, several new modes in multiplayer and more. The developers’ decision to remove BR Quads in favor of the Realism version wasn’t positively received by the player-base, so, just a few days later, IW have brought it back in their June 23 patch. This means that the regular BR versions of Solos, Duos, Trios and Quads are now all available at the same time, along with Plunder Quads replacing Blood Money in the game’s other playlist option. As for multiplayer, the devs have introduced several new modes, including the debut of All or Nothing, Face Off and Stir-Crazy 10v10. Boots on the Ground War – Realism Mosh Pit – All or Nothing – Face Off – Stir-Crazy (10v10) – Plunder Quads (Replaces Blood Money) – BR Quads (Replaces Realism BR) – New multiplayer modes explained All or Nothing is a brand new variant of the classic Free-For-All mode, except instead of being able to use their desired loadouts, players will spawn in with the bare minimum – a Throwing Knife, empty pistol, and basic perks. The objective is to scavenge around for more gear and loot, such as ammo and better weapons, and use them to reach the 20 kills that are necessary to win. Read More: MW leaker reveals upcoming Rytec AMR sniper – Face Off combines Gunfight with the more usual multiplayer modes, such as Domination, Kill Confirmed, Grind and more, which are all played on the smaller maps used in the popular 3v3 playlist. Last but not least, Stir-Crazy 10v10 – a playlist that takes regular 6v6 maps and adds an extra four players on each team, which results in – you guessed it: craziness! New Gaz Operator bundle As for new cosmetic items, the playlist update also sees the Gaz Operator bundle make its way into the shop, featuring Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick as the newest playable Operator. Gaz was one of the characters from the Modern Warfare campaign and a member of the Task Force 141, but older CoD fans will also remember him from the CoD4 single-player story. The set includes two weapon blueprints – Fair Brass and Tanker – as well as a new camo for the Kali Sticks, called Hit Sticks. The Gaz Operator bundle is now available in the #ModernWarfare & #Warzone in-game store. pic.twitter.com/aiuFE0ZFmE — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) June 23, 2020 Some were expecting today’s update to be larger, such as rolling out some of the new mid-Season 4 content that’s in the official roadmap, as well as the highly-anticipated weapon balancing patch that’s supposed to be nerfing the Grau. That will be coming on another day, presumably in early July, so players will have to suffice with just new playlists and modes for now.

  • Modern Warfare June 16 patch notes: One in the Chamber & playlist update – Dexerto

Modern Warfare June 16 patch notes: One in the Chamber & playlist update [jwplayer qiSnM8TU] Call of Duty developers Infinity Ward have released a new playlist update for Modern Warfare Season 4 and also announced the date for when they’re bringing back Warzone’s popular Plunder: Blood Money mode. Season 4 continues to roll on in Modern Warfare, as the developers are starting to release more of the new content they had teased in the official roadmap. The latest update, released on June 16, added several modes to multiplayer, including the classic fan-favorite, One in the Chamber. While it didn’t include anything for Warzone, IW did reveal that the popular Plunder: Blood Money playlist would be returning soon. New modes – One in the Chamber and more Originally introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops, One in the Chamber is a free-for-all mode in which players begin with just a single bullet in a random weapon and must get eliminations in order to earn additional bullets. Every gun is a one-shot kill, but players have only three lives during the entirety of the match, with the winner getting decided by who has the highest score at the end. The other three playlists introduced with this patch were Gunfight 3v3 Snipers Only, Gunfight Blueprints, and Realism Ground War. Gunfight 3v3 Snipers Only, as the name suggests, is a six-player mode played on smaller maps where each of the three players on both teams gets different sniper classes throughout the match. Gunfight Blueprints sticks to the more traditional format – 2v2 – and each class features a different weapon Blueprint, including ones that have been featured in the in-game store. Last but not least there’s Realism Ground War, which is a much more intense take on the large-scale playlist as users don’t have a HUD or minimap to rely on. Warzone Blood Money returning soon Infinity Ward announced that Blood Money, a popular variant of the Plunder mode in Warzone, will be returning on Thursday, June 18. It had been removed in the June 12 playlist update, which had left a lot of fans discontent, and now the devs are bringing it back. We’ll have to see whether it takes the place of another playlist or if it’s just added plain and simple since the reason it was take out in the first place was to make room for the Free Multiplayer Access Weekend. Modern Warfare June 16 update patch notes Today’s #ModernWarfare playlist update is now live! Adding Gunfight 3v3 Snipers Only – Adding Gunfight Blueprints – Adding One in the Chamber – Adding Realism Ground War – And for #Warzone players, we’ll be bringing Plunder variant, Blood Money back this Thursday, June 18th!

  • Modern Warfare June 13 update patch notes: Multiplayer & Warzone fixes – Dexerto

Modern Warfare June 13 update patch notes: Multiplayer & Warzone fixes Infinity WardInfinity Ward has pushed out a small patch to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer and Warzone, this time addressing a few bugs littered throughout the game. Season 4 launched on June 11, and brought a ton of new content to the game – including a new multiplayer map, a vast assortment of Battle Pass tiers, and three in-game events for Warzone. Fortunately, after discovering there were some issues with each of those, the game’s developers have stormed in with fixes. These updates should rectify the issues players were having with the new multiplayer map, Scrapyard, and its spawn locations, the inability to use Battle Pass content, and the frequency of in-game Warzone events. A patch is rolling out now to fix a few bugs in #ModernWarfare and #Warzone: · Fix to help prevent spawning out of the map on Scrapyard · Fix for some players who were unable to use content unlocked via Battle Pass · Fix for the frequency of In-Match events occurring in Warzone— Infinity Ward (@InfinityWard) June 13, 2020 This is a relatively tight update, as it covers much less ground than a fat one like Season 4’s launch. But it’s a necessary one, specifically for Scrapyard—which is the latest map to suffer from bugged spawns. Modern Warfare June 13 patch notes Fixed Scrapyard spawns, ensuring players don’t spawn out of the map – Fixed players’ inability to use Battle Pass content – Fixed “frequency” of the three new events added to Warzone – Scrapyard has been a highly anticipated map for a while now, having existed in earlier Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the more recent Call of Duty: Mobile, and essentially serving as an area of Warzone’s Verdansk map in Zhokov Boneyard. But, after being thrown into Season 4 as a 24/7 option, it was discovered to have bugged spawns that would put people outside of the legal combat area. This game-breaking bug seems to have now been fixed, as quickly as it appeared. Similarly, the second fix simply addresses an issue in which players were unable to use items they earned or purchased through the Season 4 Battle Pass. It’s not exactly certain which items were at the center of this problem, but all appear to have been resolved. Conversely, the third patch note appears to have tackled the spontaneity of Warzone’s new events. The Season 4 patch notes maintained that these “events can happen in any given match without advance notice.” It’s unclear exactly what the issue was with their frequency, but developers have patched their randomness to ensure they fit initial intentions. Only time will tell what other bugs surface in Modern Warfare and Warzone’s fourth season, but it’s a positive sign that Infinity Ward has addressed these three so quickly. In the spirit of transparency, the team regularly updates a Trello board with issues they’re working on. Of course, the community should continue to raise any concerns that come up. Doing so will hopefully force the developers’ hands a little, and, eventually, maybe give us an answer to why we can’t consistently get kills in the pre-game lobbies anymore.

  • Modern Warfare June 12 patch notes: Warzone playlists, free multiplayer – Dexerto

Modern Warfare June 12 patch notes: Warzone playlists, free multiplayer Infinity WardInfinity Ward have announced another Free Access Multiplayer Weekend alongside a set of updates to their Call of Duty: Warzone and Multiplayer playlists. Following the release of Season 4, Infinity Ward rolled out a smaller update on June 12 that enabled a Free Multiplayer Access Weekend for Warzone players with playlist changes, and Modern Warfare’s multiplayer playlists are being updated too. The Free Access Weekend will give players who don’t own the full game a chance to play seven Gunfight and five MP maps, including the two newest ones – Zhokov Scrapyard and Hardhat. Other than that, as far as multiplayer is concerned, the update has added a new playlist called Weekend Warfare, which features various maps and modes, brought back 3v3 Gunfight, to replace the Blueprint variant of the mode, as well as added Gun Game back in after it had been temporarily removed. Modern Warfare playlist additions Gunfight 3v3 (replacing Blueprint Gunfight) – Weekend Warfare (various maps and game modes) – Gun Game (returning to Quick Play filter) – This free multiplayer access will be available until Monday, June 15 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, so if you’re interested in partaking, make sure not to miss out on this opportunity. Read more: Best MP5 loadouts for Call of Duty: Warzone – On the Warzone side of things, the update has made a couple of minor tweaks to the playlists, removing Blood Money and adding BR Quads and Solos into their own menu. Warzone playlist changes Removing Blood Money – BR Quads and Solos moved to their own menu – Access to Modern Warfare 3v3 Gunfight – Access to Modern Warfare Multiplayer (various maps and game modes) – Some may be surprised to see Infinity Ward take away Blood Money (also known as Plunder) from Warzone’s playlist options. Instead, players can choose from the recently launched Warzone Rumble, base Solos, Duos, Trios, and Quads modes along with some multiplayer options for a limited time. This is, once again, a tremendous opportunity for Infinity Ward to show off some of its Modern Warfare options to players who only own Warzone and, for Warzone players, a great chance to level up guns and even unlock some that are nigh impossible to with the battle royale’s slower pace of play.

Modern Warfare July 7 patch notes: Warzone Plunder Quads, playlist update Infinity Ward[jwplayer mCpsAxNx]Call of Duty developers Infinity Ward have rolled out another update for Modern Warfare that’s switched up the available playlists and modes in both the multiplayer and Warzone battle royale. With Season 4 of Modern Warfare basically having reached its midway point, Infinity Ward are looking to keep the content fresh and fun for those who enjoy multiplayer, Warzone, or both. In multiplayer, this July 7 update has brought back the fan-favorite Gunfight Tournaments, allowing players to enjoy the 2v2 mode but in a competitive setting with exclusive rewards. Dirty Old Houseboat, a playlist that features arguably the game’s three most popular maps (Shoot House, Shipment, Rust), has also made a return, along with Realism Gun Game and a new set of modes called Bomb Objective Mosh Pit. As for Warzone, only two changes have been made – Plunder: Blood Money Quads is now available, by popular request, and Juggernaut Royale has been removed after a short stint. Modern Warfare & Warzone July 7 patch notes A playlist update is deploying now across Modern Warfare and Warzone! Gunfight Tournaments! – Dirty Old Houseboat (Shoot House, Rust, Shipment) – Realism Gun Game – Bomb Objective Mosh Pit (SnD, Cyber Attack, Demo) – Plunder: Blood Money Quads – Removing Juggernaut Royale – Gunfight Tournaments Gunfight Tournaments have been an on-and-off thing in Modern Warfare since the early days of the game. Players can enter in pairs and compete in a 16-team bracket featuring the popular 2v2 mode, unlocking XP boosts and cosmetic rewards for every round they advance. Usually, the duo that ends up winning the whole thing gets awarded a unique and exclusive weapon blueprint that’s not available for purchase, and it appears that this time around, Infinity Ward are offering an assault rifle variant to those who finish on top. New weapon blueprints Speaking of weapon blueprints, this update has added several new ones to the shop, including the Alabaster and Feeding Frenzy. The Alabaster is a stark white assault rifle design that comes as part of the SERE Kit: Plunder Player Store Bundle, which Infinity Ward recommend using in the new Blood Money Quads playlist. Feeding Frenzy, which is a shotgun themed after a bloody great white shark, is the featured blueprint in the Blood in the Water bundle. • Modern Warfare January 28 update didn’t fix Shipment’s biggest problem – Dexerto

Modern Warfare January 28 update didn’t fix Shipment’s biggest problem Infinity WardPlayers hoping that Modern Warfare’s January 28 update would fix Shipment’s hectic spawns are finding that in a lot of cases it’s actually made the problem worse than before. Infinity Ward’s latest patch brought in a new modes like Deathmatch Domination as well as Gunfight Customs, while integrating balances to popular weapons like the MP5 and M4, among others. But the devs also replaced Shoot the Ship with Shipment 24/7, which sounds like a fun update especially since in the same update they tuned spawns on the map to “reduce the frequency of instant deaths and spawn traps.” After players downloaded the update, however, it seems like the spawns are producing similar grievances from before in that players can’t seem to move an inch on Shipment without getting spawn killed. For Domination specifically, the devs said in the January 28 patch notes that they implemented “new spawn logic for Domination,” but some players don’t feel like that’s the case. “New Shipment spawns are worse,” Reddit user ‘FSUNole727’ said after the patch was released. “I would much rather be spawn killed 100 times Bc my team couldn’t capture B on Domination, than have these new spawns. It’s terrible.” Gameplay clips uploaded by other members of the Modern Warfare community show an entire team getting shutdown on Shipment by enemies simple crouching waiting for players to appear again before taking them out. “Middle should never be a spawn zone,” user ‘mrfroggyman’ said. “And we should never spawn LITERALLY in front of an enemy. Spawns are NOT fixed” Another clip shows just how a team can contain their opponents in the middle spawn with ease, with some players even spamming into the center of the map knowing their shots would connect with something. Teams who control these points are finding it much easier to rack up kills for important streaks like the Chopper Gunner and even a Tactical Nuke. A lot of members in the community realize that fixing this issue on such a small map like Shipment can be difficult, leading some to wonder if the problem should be tackled from another angle. “Problem with that is if you remove middle as a spawn zone it’s easier for one team to control spawn trapping through an entire match,” user ‘willyjsemail’ said. “I personally think they should take it back to 5v5; it was harder to control a map with 5 players than it is with 6.” In either case, it seems like Infinity Ward is going to go back to the drawing board to see what improvements can be made to make Shipment’s spawns more balanced.

  • Modern Warfare Jan 7 patch notes: Shipment 24/7, new Gunfight mode, more – Dexerto

Modern Warfare Jan 7 patch notes: Shipment 24/7, new Gunfight mode, more Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward has released the first update for Modern Warfare in 2020, adding a new Shipment 24/7 playlist, Gun Game, and a new variant of Gunfight. Season 1 continues to roll on in Modern Warfare living up to its title as the biggest post-launch content drop in Call of Duty history. As part of that initiative, on January 7, Infinity Ward released a small update changing up the playlists and modes available in multiplayer. The update added Shipment 24/7 as the featured playlist, a new version of Gunfight that is 1v1 mode, and Gun Game, replacing the new Grind mode that was introduced the week prior. Read More: Infinity Ward tease new Operator style – A full breakdown of this update is available below, including the official patch notes as provided by Infinity Ward. Playlist Update – January 7 Shipment 24/7 Shipment is now available in Modern Warfare as a standalone 24/7 playlists for the first time since the map was added earlier in Season 1. It’s the third time that the iconic CoD4 map has featured in a 24/7 playlist – it was first packed with Vacant when the two maps were first released, then it was combined with Shoot House in Shoot the Ship. Unfortunately for a lot of players, the addition of this new playlist means that the fan-favorite Shoot House 24/7 is no longer available, which could spark frustration from the player-base. Every time Shoot House 24/7 has been removed in favor of something else, Infinity Ward end up bringing it back because of widespread player complaints. 1v1 Gunfight Gunfight remains one of the more popular multiplayer modes in Modern Warfare and now Infinity Ward have added a new 1v1 variant for players to enjoy This means that solo players will now be able to queue into matches by themselves and not have to be paired up with random teammates, which can make matches difficult to win. • Modern Warfare Jan 22 update patch notes: Crossbow, weapon balancing, more – Dexerto

Modern Warfare Jan 22 update patch notes: Crossbow, weapon balancing, more Infinity WardCall of Duty developers Infinity Ward have released the v1.13 major update for Modern Warfare, adding the brand new Crossbow weapon, five additional loadouts in multiplayer, buffs and nerfs for certain weapons, Capture the Flag, and more. This January 22 update is the first major Modern Warfare patch in a while, as you have to go back all the way to mid-December since the last one went live. Since then, Infinity Ward have released numerous minor patches and playlist updates, ones that have added to and shuffled around the modes and playlists available in multiplayer. That’s certainly not the case for this patch, which is one of the biggest ones released since the launch of Season 1, in terms of new content, changes made to the game, and the implementation of fixes for bugs and glitches. It takes up a whopping 48GB of space on PC, 18.4GB on Xbox One, and 13.2GB on PlayStation 4, so players who haven’t installed it yet should expect to wait a while before being able to play. You can find a full breakdown of everything that this update contained below, including the official patch notes. New Crossbow weapon – how to unlock This January 22 update added the “super-sleek one-hit-kill” Crossbow Modern Warfare, free to everyone on all three platforms, of course, since the game does not have loot boxes or purchasable DLC. Players will have to grind to earn the weapon, however, since it can only be unlocked after completing the specific in-game challenge: use a Marksman Rifle with a Reflex Optic and get five kills in 25 different matches. For more information about how to complete this challenge, as well as the full list of attachments and a look at some early gameplay footage, make sure to check out our Crossbow info article HERE. Weapon balancing As expected, this v1.13 update contained some weapon tuning adjustments in order to improve the gun balancing in multiplayer. Overall, there were six changes made. The RAM-7 assault rifle, Mk2 Carbine marksman rifle, and FN Scar-17 were all buffed with this update, while the M4A1 ‘OG’ Blueprint was tweaked so that, when aiming down sights, the player’s eye “is moved forward more, so it blocks less of the line of sight.” For a full breakdown of the weapon balancing, including specific details about all the changes, make sure to check out our buffs and nerfs article HERE. Competitive changes Competitive Call of Duty is in the spotlight now more than ever with the start of the newly-formed Call of Duty League’s inaugural 2020 season just days away. As has become a sort of tradition, the developers have made some last-second changes to the competitive settings just days before the Launch Weekend. In Domination, flags now must be neutralized before being captured again. Headshot multiplier damage has been nullified, so now torso and headshots count for the same amount of damage. A couple of changes were also made to Field Upgrades, as the charge time for both Dead Silence and Trophy System were decreased. In addition to being used at the upcoming Launch Weekend, these changes were also implemented for the in-game competitive settings, so now applying the CDL rule format in custom/private matches will include these adjustments. What else is new? Aside from the topics discussed above, the patch also included several other noteworthy points, such as a playlist update that added Capture the Flag and Shoot the Ship playlists, the latter replacing Shoot House 24/7. Five additional loadout slots were added to multiplayer, so now players can create up to 10 classes. This was a highly-requested feature since MW does not have Prestiging, and there was no way to increase the number of loadouts one can use. The slide-cancel movement exploit has been patched, so players can no longer skip the recovery state when sliding. There were also some changes made to Trophy System, which now has an increased protection radius and decreased radius and damage taken by trophy explosions. • Modern Warfare Jan 14 patch notes: new Gunfight mode & playlist update – Dexerto

Modern Warfare Jan 14 patch notes: new Gunfight mode & playlist update Infinity WardCall of Duty developers Infinity Ward rolled out another update for Modern Warfare, adding Gunfight Trios and bringing back several multiplayer playlists and modes, including the fan-favorite Shoot House 24/7, Cranked, and Drop Zone. With Season 1 still in full swing in Modern Warfare, Infinity Ward continue to add more content for players to enjoy, as part of what they’re calling the biggest post-launch content drop in Call of Duty history. On January 14, they released another small update that made changes to the modes and playlists currently available in multiplayer. A breakdown of what this update added to Modern Warfare can be found below, including the full and official patch notes. 3v3 Gunfight Since the release of MW, Gunfight remains one of the more popular modes in multiplayer. Now, the developers took the classic 2v2 version and added an extra player on each side, revealing the brand new Trios variant. This is an experiment that’s definitely worth keeping an eye on because some of the maps are small and congested as it is, so it’ll be interesting to see how they play with six total players loaded in at once. Gunfight Trios is the fourth different version of the mode to be added, following the unpopular O.S.P., the classic 2v2, and the recently-released 1v1, with the latter two still available in-game. Other Playlist changes The ever-popular Shoot House 24/7 playlist is now available once again, after being removed and added back for what seems like the umpteenth time. It’s now become a trend for the developers to remove it in favor of something new only for fans to complain so much that they end up bringing it back. It’s replaced Shipment 24/7, which was added as the featured playlist the week prior but never got even close to being as popular as its Shoot House counterpart. A new ‘Same Day Delivery’ playlist has also been added, which features Cranked and Drop Zone, two multiplayer modes that were introduced earlier in Season 1 and have now been brought back. Cranked is a Team Deathmatch-style mode except it requires players who get their initial kill to hurry and follow it up with another or else they’ll explode. Drop Zone is similar to Hardpoint in that there are specially marked zones on the map that players and teams need to take control of. However, the twist here is that Killstreaks can only be earned by controlling zones long enough to grab the Care Packages that drop into them from the sky. Modern Warfare January 14 playlist update patch notes Today’s playlist update is now live: Shoot House 24/7 is back! (Replaces Shipment 24/7) – Gunfight 3v3 – “Same Day Delivery” Playlist – Cranked and Drop Zone! – Gun Game is now in the Quick Play Filter –

  • Modern Warfare invisible collision bug nerfs Chopper Gunner – Dexerto

Modern Warfare invisible collision bug nerfs Chopper Gunner Infinity WardChopper Gunners aren’t working as they should be in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and while some players are starting to think it’s something Infinity Ward have intentionally changed, they’ve actually noted it as a major issue in game. The developers actually confirmed it to be an issue back in January, according to their Trello board, stating that it would be sorted out in a future update, but even more footage of the bug has surfaced online. Bugs are part and parcel of every game, whether that be from an up and coming development team or one being worked on by some of the most established around, although there’s no doubt that players will want this one fixing soon. The issue, for those who haven’t seen it, involves players calling in the 10 elimination killstreak at the E flag – causing an “invisible collision” in the air. When called in, instead of allowing the player to have the helicopter fly all the way around the map and have a chance of hitting loads of targets, it just stays in one specific area for a limited time before flying away. Reddit user MrGoobanich posted about the problem on February 10, saying: “Anybody else experience this chopper gunner glitch? Won’t let me move out from behind the cranes by E on Port of Verdansk. Happened to me twice today.” Still, with the Chopper restricted to just a tight area of the map, they managed to pick up a handful of kills after calling it in, but nowhere near as many as what they could have had. The post did cause some confusion for players in the thread, however, with some convinced that this wasn’t an actual bug, but instead a change of how Chopper Gunners now work in Modern Warfare. One said: “Thought it just gave you an operational radius from where you called it in,” while another posted: “I wonder if the crane you’re on is in an out of bounds area for the chopper, causing you to glitch just outside of the play area?” What we do know, however, is that Infinity Ward has noted it as something to fix in the future. With that being said, it’s been noted as a “known issue” and something to be included in a future patch since January 7. Whether or not a fix is on the way in the immediate future remains to be seen, but players clearly won’t be getting the best out of their hard-fought killstreaks in the meantime.

  • Modern Warfare to introduce Operators as possible Specialist replacements – Dexerto

Modern Warfare to introduce Operators as possible Specialist replacements ActivisionActivision have announced that the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title will feature new additions called Operators and Operator Packs. After months of anticipation, Modern Warfare was finally confirmed to be the 2019 installment of the CoD series in a reveal event on May 30. As part of the reveal, it was announced that MW would feature Operators, which are unique characters that each have their own backstory, nationality, character dialogue, character skins, and cosmetic customization options. So far, there have been three Operator Packs revealed, with each Pack containing an Operator, themed Operator skin, and a cosmetic weapon variant that’s unique to that character. The three Operator Packs are detailed below, and are all included in the Operator Edition and Operator Enhanced Edition of Modern Warfare. “Crew Expendable” Operator Pack Operator Name: Otter – Themed Operator Skin: Special operations with gas mask. – Cosmetic Weapon Variant: Short-barreled pump-action shotgun designed “for close encounters”; in fact, the phrase is scratched into the stock. The weapon also comes with oil and surface markings. – “All Ghillied Up” Operator Pack Operator Name: Grinch – Themed Operator Skin: Full sniper ghillie suit. – Cosmetic Weapon Variant: Bolt-action sniper rifle, in camouflage with additional netting and suppressor, and what seems to be coordinates scratched on the surface of the weapon above the trigger, near the bolt carrier. – “War Pig” Operator Pack Operator Name: Wyatt – Themed Operator Skin: Ground infantry Desert camouflage with tac vest. – Cosmetic Weapon Variant: Pistol with a lightweight custom trigger, flared magwell, grip with custom stippling, accessory rail (for mounting lasers or flashlights), and “War Pig” etched into the slide. – One of the most noteworthy aspects of these new Operators is that, while they are all unique in so many ways, none of them have any special abilities that can affect gameplay. This means that, should they be introduced as playable characters in the Multiplayer, then they could potentialy replace Specialists, which have featured in three of the last four titles. Read More: Esports community share confusion over Call of Duty: Modern Warfare crossplay announcement – Specialists have been a very polarizing addition to Call of Duty, especially in Black Ops 4, with many players complaining that their special abilities take the games too far away from the fundamentals of CoD. That being said, the Multiplayer reveal is yet to happen, so no one will know for sure whether Operators will indeed replace Specialists until then. Modern Warfare – Everything we know so far Modern Warfare was finally announced on May 30, as fans were treated to the first ever trailer of the game. The release date for the game has been confirmed to be October 25, 2019, making it the second straight CoD title in a row to be released in October. Read More: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – Campaign, new engine, cross-platform and everything else you need to know – While the Multiplayer and other modes were not touched upon, the campaign was thoroughly discussed, and is expected to the most controversial CoD story to date. It’s also been confirmed that the game will feature full cross-platform play, becoming the first ever CoD game in which players on different platforms will be able to play with each other.

  • Modern Warfare Infected glitch makes players unkillable – Dexerto

Modern Warfare Infected glitch makes players unkillable Infinity WardA glitch has been found in Modern Warfare’s classic Infected game mode which has prevented players from dealing enemies any damage with their melee attacks. Infected is one of the most popular Modern Warfare playlists for those looking to show off their survival skills and has been a fan-favorite in many of the past Call of Duty titles. Following the recent May 19 update, which saw the introduction of the Reinfected Ground War playlist, along with some other changes, players have uncovered a glitch which made the opposing survivors almost invincible. A clip of the bizarre bug was first shared by u/Broncos57 on the Modern Warfare Subreddit, highlighting that they were unable to do any damage with throwing knives or melee attacks to the last player remaining, even at point-blank range. After chasing down the lone survivor during their Infected match and connecting on a throwing knife, Broncos57 climbed onto the back of the player’s ATV as they were making their escape and continued to dish out punches and knives. The opposing player seemingly absorbed all of the damage, without so much as a flinch, and one of the throwing knives that was used even passed through the survivor and bounced back off the vehicle, killing the infected player to add insult to injury. The survivor managed to drive away from the pack of Infected relatively unharmed and secured the 1v39 clutch victory after the timer ran out. It is unknown what exactly caused the bug, but some players suggested that it was likely due to the weird interactions that can occur when standing on top of a moving ATV.

  • Modern Warfare 2’s first multiplayer map officially revealed – Dexerto

Modern Warfare 2’s first multiplayer map officially revealed ActivisionActivision surprised CDL Champs 2022 viewers with a first look at Grand Prix, an all-new map for Modern Warfare 2 that gives players a taste of one of the biggest sports in the world. There aren’t many details widely available about Modern Warfare II’s multiplayer mode just yet, but Activision is slowly pulling back the curtain to get fans excited about the upcoming release. At CDL Champs 2022, not only did they announce the full beta schedule and multiplayer reveal event, but they also showcased Marina Bay Grand Prix, a map that draws from the culture of Formula 1 and pits players against each other in a new kind of arena. Modern Warfare II’s first multiplayer map Grand Prix has been revealed Grand Prix is a mid-range arena in Singapore where players will battle it out on and around a racetrack. An early taste of Grand Prix leaked back in June thanks to files found within CODMobile, but this new look gives a much better idea of how the map will play and how speed may be the name of the game when it comes to staying alive on this one. This preview is only a taste of what players will be able to get their hands on when the beta gets underway later in September.

  • Modern Warfare II leaks outline new Rainbow Six Siege-inspired game mode – Dexerto

Modern Warfare II leaks outline new Rainbow Six Siege-inspired game mode Activision / UbisoftCall of Duty 2022: Modern Warfare 2 will allegedly feature a Rainbow Six Siege-inspired game mode fit with unique roles, gadgets, and even the ability to ‘fortify’ an area. Here’s how the potential mode works, based on early leaks. CoD Vanguard may have only just released but plenty are already looking towards this year’s Modern Warfare follow-up from Infinity Ward. While it’s still many months out, details from the project codenamed ‘Project Cortez’ continue to spill out online. Early leaks have touched on everything from “brutal realism” in the campaign to an ambitious playlist that takes after Escape From Tarkov. Now, further details have emerged from prominent CoD leaker ‘RalphsValve,’ claiming that yet another unique mode is in the works for Modern Warfare 2. This time, the alleged mode appears to take inspiration from the popular Rainbow Six Siege. With a round-based structure, players take turns filling unique roles, attacking and defending objectives, all while using traps and cameras to their advantage. Here’s how it supposedly works. Simply referred to as ‘Attackers v. Defenders,’ this mode splits players across two teams before custom roles are decided. There’s no telling exactly what most roles entail, though one player on each side is supposedly locked in as the Team Leader. The goal for Attackers is to complete a certain objective before the time limit expires. Meanwhile, Defenders must “methodize a plan to slow down or entirely halt the Attackers.” This can be achieved through a number of features brand new to the CoD franchise, according to the leaks. Similar to Rainbow Six Siege, Defenders can lay traps, keep themselves hidden, and even use cameras around the map to scout attacking players. Read More: Modern Warfare II campaign details leaked – Moreover, teams even have the ability to ‘fortify’ certain areas. With destruction allegedly “playing a major role,” these fortifications could be key. Defenders; ⁃ To methodise a plan to slow down, or entirely halt the Attackers; utilising hidden locations, boobytraps and cameras⁃ Destruction plays a major role – you’ll be able to fortify, and defend the positioned objective. — Ralph (@RalphsValve) January 2, 2022 On top of the new features, an expanded health system also appears to be in effect. Depending on how much damage you absorb, you could find yourself in one of three conditions: “Minor, Critically Injured, and Mortally Wounded.” Once Defenders are knocked out of a round, they’re gone for good. But Attackers on the other hand, have ‘Tourniquets’ to help their injured allies. Once again similar to Rainbow Six Siege, and even battle royale Warzone in this regard, reviving plays a role in the new Attackers v. Defenders mode. Obviously, plenty can change throughout the course of development. There’s always a chance this mode never even sees the light of day. But early leaks hold true, it could be yet another big component in Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer offering. A release date hasn’t yet been announced for the CoD title yet. Before we get to the Modern Warfare 2 reveal, be sure to brush up on everything we know.

  • What is DMZ mode in Warzone 2? Gameplay, release date & more – Dexerto

What is DMZ mode in Warzone 2? Gameplay, release date & more ActivisionWith Warzone 2 on the horizon, so too is the upcoming DMZ mode. Making its debut as an ‘Escape from Tarkov’ inspired playlist, it functions in a completely different way to the regular battle royale. Here’s how it all works. While the follow-up to Warzone is largely exciting fans with its advancements in the core BR-style mode, Warzone 2 is also set to launch with something entirely unique in DMZ. This secondary game type allows players to focus on new objectives, battle AI, and extract with high-tier loot. Although details were scarce at first, we now know what to expect from this highly-anticipated mode that insiders suggest has been in the works for many years. Here, we’re going to run through everything we know about DMZ, its likeness to Escape from Tarkov, and how it will fit alongside Warzone 2. Contents DMZ Release Date – Free-to-play DMZ mode in Warzone 2 – DMZ Mode gameplay details details: player count, maps & more – DMZ game mode Launch Date The new DMZ game mode launches alongside Warzone 2 on Wednesday, November 16. Both arrive as part of the mega-sized Season 1 update spread across Modern Warfare 2. This means players have plenty of options as soon as the first season of the new cycle gets underway. You can either jump into the newly revamped BR in Warzone 2, play standard multiplayer in MW2, or check out what’s new in the DMZ game type. DMZ free-to-play As the DMZ game type is tied directly to Warzone 2, we know for certain it will be a free-to-play experience. With Warzone 2 available at no charge, and DMZ bundled within, anyone is able to access the unique game type simply by installing the BR. DMZ mode gameplay details: AI, map, more With the first official DMZ gameplay arriving during a creator event on November 9, we got a first look at the mode in action. In essence, it’s a blend of PVE vs PVP all rolled into one. Teams drop into a version of the Al Mazrah map already filled with AI-controlled enemies. It’s up to them to fight for control of a territory. By wiping out other nearby humans along with AI, it provides a window to check the map and look for nearby Strongholds. These locations come with a number of randomized objectives, be it defusing a bomb or simply eliminating a number of targets. In completing these missions, players can earn high-tier loot and advance through to the next area. Effectively, it’s your call where you strike and what your overall goal is. Your team is striving to drop in, loot up, and eventually leave the map through a handful of exfiltration zones. Exactly how much loot you’ll claim for making it out alive boils down to you and your squad. Enemy AI can vary from regular targets to armored foes and of course, the meatier Juggernaut-style opponents too. Not only that, but reinforcements will often swoop down from helicopters overhead or arrive in bigger convoys outside. That’s all the information we currently have on Call of Duty’s DMZ mode.

  • Modern Warfare squad shows how to win Cyber Attack round in mere seconds – Dexerto

Modern Warfare squad shows how to win Cyber Attack round in mere seconds Playing through a match of Cyber Attack on Piccadilly, this Modern Warfare team figured out a method of putting their opponents away before the round ever really began. The latest round-based mode introduced to the Call of Duty franchise with Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare, Cyber Attack offers a unique alternative to the classic Search and Destroy game-type. With the added ability to revive downed teammates, strategy revolves around a neutral bomb being planted at an opposing site. However, rounds can also end based purely on eliminations as this absurdly swift demonstration proved. In a November 18 post, Reddit user ‘Hirsutophilia’ exemplified what might be the fastest possible round win in CoD history, let alone the title’s brand new mode. Counting down to the beginning of a new round, the player can be seen aiming their Assault Rifle weapon skywards. They’re doing this due to a grenade launcher under-barrel attachment that can be utilized immediately, unlike various other explosives in Modern Warfare. Launching a ‘noob-tube’ directly towards the enemy spawn, the player finds two eliminations with the grenade itself before a nearby vehicle explodes and wipes out the remaining enemies. Piccadilly is a controversial Modern Warfare map to say the least. Former pro and current 100 Thieves CEO Matthew ‘Nadeshot’ Haag has been one of many quite vocal about the poorly-received design, describing it as the “worst Call of Duty map ever made.” With finicky spawns and lopsided design, the clunky map allowed for this absurd grenade launcher sightline to prove fruitful. An indoor spawn for the enemy team or the negation of all explosives for the first few seconds of each round could have circumvented this ridiculous spectacle. Chiming in on the absolutely insane team-kill, Reddit user ‘a_body_farm’ responded in saying that the highlight was “both commendable and uninstall worthy. A marvel feat.” While the issue of early grande launcher kills might not be quite as prevalent on numerous other maps with much more separated spawns, there’s no denying that this is a clear problem for round-based game-types. Fortunately, Infinity Ward has been quick to address a wide array of community complaints thus far into the life-cycle of Modern Warfare. From a rapid Dead Silence fix to a significant Claymore nerf within the first few weeks, here’s hoping a rapid fix can follow suit for this glaring oversight. Certainly not the only lightning quick highlight we’ve seen recently in the FPS genre either, with 100 Thieves’ newly recruited CSGO team recently steamrolled through an ESL Pro League round in near-historic time.

  • Modern Warfare hotfix reportedly causing problems with friends lists – Dexerto

Modern Warfare hotfix reportedly causing problems with friends lists Infinity WardModern Warfare players are reportedly finding a bug after the latest patch that’s making their friends list appear completely empty. After downloading the February 19 hotfix patch, people have been sounding off about the strange bug that’s making their Social page barren – some even indicate they haven’t been able to join their friends in a lobby. While Battle.net friends can still appear online, players aren’t seeing the friends they had on the Activision friends list. The glitch has been concerning for players who downloaded the patch that was supposed to be an update for prevalent bugs. People have been chiming in on the game’s subreddit, including ‘TLukas123,’ who showed their empty friends list, confused about what had happened. “After today’s update (hotfix) I lost all my Activision friends and can’t send or receive friend request through my Activision account,” they said. Read more: 7 players to watch during CDL Atlanta – While there have been problems with Modern Warfare’s friends list feature in the past, the latest round of issues seem to have been triggered after today’s update. Reddit user ‘bushoke’ said: “All my Activision friends are gone?! Anyone else having this problem?” In fact, enough people were affected that some players have been finding a way to work around the glitch to get access to their friends lists again. Though the bug makes it appear like all the entries were deleted, some have been finding success by getting into a lobby and extending an invite to a random player. “Happened to me, but I sent a friend request to some random dude in a lobby and it fixed it,” user ‘Sanya_The_Evil’ said. Hopefully, that proves to be a permanent fix to the problem if more players download the latest patch just to find they can’t queue up with their friends. Initial reactions to the bug made a lot of people confused seeing as the patch that Infinity Ward released was supposed to take care of issues in the game, but managed to add a couple along with it. If the problem with the friends lists keeps popping up among players, it’s sure to be addressed by the Modern Warfare devs to implement a long term solution.

  • Modern Warfare hits jackpot as report reveals microtransaction revenue – Dexerto

Modern Warfare hits jackpot as report reveals microtransaction revenue A business report from Super Data revealed the staggering amount of money that Call of Duty Modern Warfare made just from Season 1 microtransactions in December alone, potentially indicating that the Battle Pass model is here to stay. The Battle Pass has made its mark on all of the popular games that dominate sites like Twitch, YouTube, and even this site. Games like Apex Legends, Fortnite, and now CSGO and Call of Duty have embraced the tiered rewards system as an alternative to DLC and loot boxes. While games like Apex and Counter-Strike still utilize loot boxes, titles such as Fortnite and Modern Warfare have completely abandoned the once-referred-to-as “surprise mechanics.” Call of Duty is newer to embracing this model compared to some of the other games, but if the first set sales numbers are any indicator, the Battle Pass isn’t going away any time soon. According to Super Data, a Nielsen company that reports on the games market, Modern Warfare was the top-grossing in December on console and number seven on PC. In that month, players spent a massive $78.7 million on in-game content, whether it was buying the pass itself, levels for the pass, or in-game currency to spend on bundles. On console, it beat out several lucrative titles that rake in money from in-game spending, like FIFA 20, Fortnite, and Grand Theft Auto V. For reference, Black Ops 4 earned $93 million from in-game spending in its entire first quarter, compared to the $78.7 million figure from just one month of Modern Warfare. The report comes out just a day before Call of Duty League officially launches as the flagship for competitive Call of Duty, and the developers originally announced that team skins and items would be coming to the in-game market before information regarding CDL team items was deleted from the website. Apart from the Battle Pass market being successful financially, it has also struck a chord with the players, who regard it as a superior system for earning cosmetic items than the previous ones. Loot boxes and season passes were universally panned by the CoD player-base over the past several titles. Fans responded with anger when a leak originally reported that Modern Warfare would include the infamous supply drops, which turned out not to be the case. Activision were careful with what they put behind a paywall, as most of the post-launch content so far has been available for free to players on all three platforms. For example, the things in the Battle Pass that provide affect gameplay, such as the two new weapons, are both free to unlock. The currently-ongoing Season 1 will be extended all the way until February 11, to make room for all the new content that is still set to be released. Season 2 will feature its own Battle Pass, so Activision stand to make even more money come next month.

  • Modern Warfare has secret easter egg if you keep shooting the baby – Dexerto

Modern Warfare has secret easter egg if you keep shooting the baby Call of Duty after Black Ops 4, and players are discovering a handful of Easter eggs already. Many players have been experiencing the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare campaign since the game’s release on October 25, however, there is one hidden Easter egg that players might not have seen. Since the release of their popular zombies game mode with the iconic Nacht der Untoten map, Call of Duty has been renowned for bringing in-game Easter eggs to the next level across multiple titles. Despite not having the fan-favorite zombies mode in Infinity Ward’s release of Modern Warfare, the developers still managed to include many Easter eggs, particularly in the returning Campaign mode. During the game’s “Clean House” stealth mission, which requires players to navigate through a London townhouse having to distinguish enemies among a building of civilians, Infinity Ward left an unusual easter egg for some of the more ruthless players. The easter egg was found by Bechrisslol, who unlocked a secret message from the developers after repeatedly shooting at the crying baby in-game who can be found in one of the rooms you have to clear during the raid. Warning: Some viewers may find the clip disturbing. If a player shoots the baby they will initially get prompted with a message stating “Children are non-combatants,” before being returned to your previous checkpoint which usually happens to players when they excessively shoot at civilians during the story mode. However, when players choose to repeat the same action over and over again, a special message will eventually appear on the screen, asking, “Are you serious?” – also ending your mission’s progress by kicking you out the game and back to the main mission menu. Many had concerns over how divisive aspects of the new story mode could be and it has even seen one popular streamer quit his campaign playthrough after finding it to be too offensive. Although Modern Warfare has some moments that would be seen as discomforting to its players, the game’s director revealed before launch that they were trying to avoid censoring the campaign.

  • Modern Warfare grenade trick revives players in the blink of an eye – Dexerto

Modern Warfare grenade trick revives players in the blink of an eye ActivisionGrenades aren’t quite working as intended throughout various modes in Modern Warfare as a new trick surprisingly allows players to revive themselves. Grenades are obviously intended to detonate on top of opposing forces and secure a quick elimination or two. Prevalent in every loadout, players are able to choose between all sorts of explosives. From sticky semtex grenades to frag, not a single item in the ‘lethal’ category is intended to help the opponents. However, a new trick has been uncovered that goes against the grain and, shockingly, benefits your enemies if timed just right. Throwing grenades back towards their sender is an entirely viable play in Call of Duty. There’s a limited window that allows players to pick the explosive back up and launch it away before the detonation impacts everyone nearby. Amusingly enough, players are actually able to return grenades while in a downed-state as well. Better yet, in doing so, players somehow get themselves off the ground in a heartbeat. Completely neglecting the need for a revive from a nearby teammate, this odd feature gets you back on your feet in an instant if timed just right. While obviously a niche tactic that will only come in handy throughout Cyber Attack and Special Ops, there’s no denying how powerful the trick can be in certain situations. Whether you’re one round away from winning a closely contested game of Cyber Attack, or your squad is just moments out from completing a difficult Special Ops challenge, all hope might not be lost if you get downed in combat. There’s no way to predict when enemy AI might throw a grenade your way and multiplayer opposition might cook their grenades to perfection, so it can be a difficult tactic to fall back on, but the option is always there nonetheless. While Cyber Attack is an entirely new mode in Modern Warfare, Special Ops is a returning cooperative feature from Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2 (2009). Despite being reintroduced to the series for the first time since 2011, dedicated players were quick to voice their frustrations with the buggy state of the mode at launch. Adding to the list, this grenade bug is certainly not working as intended but it might just save your life before being patched out.

  • Modern Warfare golden camo features game-breaking visual bug – Dexerto

Modern Warfare golden camo features game-breaking visual bug The golden camouflage in Modern Warfare appears to be the cause of a ridiculous visual bug that obscures your vision in direct sunlight. Typically a way to highlight your prowess with a certain weapon type, golden camo is one of the more difficult unlocks throughout any Call of Duty title and Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare is no different. The latest iteration, however, seems to be the cause of much frustration due to a ridiculous visual bug. Weapon camouflages are a huge drawing point for a number of Call of Duty players as those dedicated enough are able to flex their accomplishments to others in-game. Golden camo is often one of the few high-tier unlocks in any given Call of Duty title. However, in Modern Warfare, the weapon skin appears to be extraordinarily distracting in certain situations when the lighting hits just right. As exemplified in a November 25 post from Reddit user ‘cyberself19,’ the most recent form of golden camouflage actually does more harm than good as the overwhelming glare takes up half of the screen while aiming down the sights. The weapon tint isn’t always so painfully bright, but when met with a direct source of light, the glare becomes absurdly over-the-top. When in the middle of a sunlit street for instance, or simply just aiming through an open window, golden camo seems like a surefire way to paint a giant target on your character model. Not only does the distracting reflection take up a considerable chunk of screen space, but it can also entirely block enemies from appearing in your line of sight. Supposedly the issue stems from a setting that can only be adjusted on the PC version of the First Person Shooter. As Reddit user ‘Nowherelair’ explained, turning “screen space reflections off” will reduce the impact of the ridiculous glare. Unfortunately for console players however, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Modern Warfare feature no such option to toggle on and off. This means that the golden camouflage is going to be a distraction and the cause of much frustration on console until a widespread patch is implemented to either reduce the shine or implement the setting for non-PC players. In order to earn the golden camouflage in Modern Warfare, players must first complete every single camo challenge for a particular weapon. From long-ranged eliminations to multi-kill medals, each weapon class offers a unique slate of tests to complete before unlocking the golden variant. While there’s no telling if this visual issue impacts each and every weapon with a golden camouflage variant, there’s no denying that such an egregious visual bug could prove to be a major deterrence for some players. Especially those looking to go the distance and grind out the platinum and Damascus camos.

  • Modern Warfare glitch leaks vehicles & modes for Warzone battle royale – Dexerto

Modern Warfare glitch leaks vehicles & modes for Warzone battle royale ActivisionA glitch in Modern Warfare is giving players access to the previously-leaked battle royale called Warzone, revealing new information on the vehicles, modes and more. Clues about Infinity Ward’s BR component to their Call of Duty game have been rapidly increasing since the Season 2 patch update on February 11. The mode’s existence is all but official now, especially after gameplay footage was leaked of a player exploring Warzone. Activision have since taken down the video via copyright strikes, but more players have reportedly been gaining access to the mode’s main menu via a glitch in the game. Modern Warfare battle royale modes The most prominent aspect of the leak were the modes listed for Warzone that will let players different approaches to the battle royale. In-game screenshots taken by Twitter user ‘CaptainBadfoot’ showed that there will be Trios mode as well as a Squads, the latter having the classic ‘fill’ or ‘no fill’ option that’s been customary in most battle royales. A permanent trios mode was popularized by Apex Legends and briefly featured in Fortnite LTMs. Now it’s going to get another chance as a game type in Modern Warfare’s iteration of the genre. I’m still in the lobby but can only do the training session. It gives the option to ‘fill’ or ‘dont fill’ the squad, but pressing either does nothing right now. pic.twitter.com/tj2iXe3Ctz — Dean Carter (@CaptainBadfoot) February 13, 2020 What vehicles are in Warzone? Vehicles were a big part of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout battle royale mode, and it appears Infinity Ward are continuing that trend. Another leaked in-game image revealed that there could be five different types of vehicles in Warzone: ATV – SUV – Heli – Cargo Truck – Tac Rover – While this is far from an official confirmation, it does make it likelier that Warzone will feature aerial warfare in addition to land-based battle, and maybe even some water as well. The details revealed through this glitch adds to the tons of information that are already available for Warzone. Earlier, leaked gameplay footage showed how some of the game’s features will work, such as the Plunder currency, Drop Kits, purchasable Equipment, and more. Of course, Infinity Ward and Activision have still not announced or even acknowledged this mode. However, they’ve gone to great lengths to get all of the leaks taken down, both on YouTube and Twitter, and have even banned the player who posted these screenshots online. Some have interpreted this effort that the devs and publishers have been putting into suppressing all of the leaked content as an indirect admission that there indeed is a battle royale mode coming to Modern Warfare. At this point, the question has turned from if to when.

  • Modern Warfare glitch reveals unreleased Makarov pistol – Dexerto

Modern Warfare glitch reveals unreleased Makarov pistol ActivisionInfinity Ward adds weapons to Modern Warfare with each new season, though it appears even more have been in the works behind the scenes as a secret pistol was accidentally handed out due to a confusing glitch. [jwplayer I1TRQiOW] Problematic bugs have been on the rise once again throughout Modern Warfare’s sixth and final season. Warzone players have had their runs ended by broken Loadout Drops while others have literally been left in the dark as a result of a game-breaking issue. Despite these problems, every now and then, glitches can actually be a pleasant surprise. This was the case on October 27 as a player shockingly stumbled upon a new weapon. While playing offline, they noticed something suspicious. One of the AI-controlled enemies was wielding a unique pistol. After taking them down and picking up the gun, the Makarov was revealed in all its glory. Fit with custom animations, an unfinished model, but all the firepower you’d expect from the classic secondary. The Makarov pistol first appeared in 2010’s Black Ops and soon featured in the game’s sequel before disappearing. It was usable across the campaign and multiplayer in the first game, though only appeared in the story for the follow-up. Evidently, it’s an extremely rare weapon compared to some iconic guns in the Call of Duty franchise. Having only appeared in Treyarch releases, it’s a surprise to see the pistol up and running in Modern Warfare. It appeared as a Renetti on the ground and the icon matched up as well. Though it’s very clear a good amount of work has been put into the gun. From unique reload and inspect animations to its own balancing, it may have been in the plans for a previous seasonal update. Given the unfinished model of the weapon, however, there’s a good chance we don’t see it properly anytime soon. Infinity Ward could have been testing it months ago before scrapping the gun. Perhaps it’s simply in the game’s files as a placeholder. There’s really no telling at this point in time. It popped up during an offline session against bots, so don’t expect to see this random bug in an online match either. It would be surprising to see the weapon appear in an Infinity Ward title for the first time after such a long gap, though anything is possible. With Treyarch taking over Warzone with the transition to Black Ops Cold War, however, it would make more sense to see the Makarov in 2021.

  • Ridiculous Modern Warfare glitch has players avoiding Ground War – Dexerto

Ridiculous Modern Warfare glitch has players avoiding Ground War Infinity WardA newly discovered issue on Modern Warfare’s Tavorsk District Ground War map has the community more than riled up over how such a ridiculous bug ever made it into the game. Modern Warfare’s Ground War mode pits teams of 32 players against one another on some of the biggest maps the Call of Duty series has ever seen before. Pushing the boundaries of the franchise, it’s understandable how a few bugs may slip through the cracks here and there. However, with texture exploits allowing players to shoot through walls, and bizarre visual glitches, it seems the community is nearing its breaking point. A newly discovered issue on Tavorsk District might now be the straw that breaks the camels back. Despite being early into the map, things were looking quite grim for Reddit user ‘Swampfox1906’ throughout their Ground War match on Tavorsk District. With the enemy team in control of four flags, allies were spawning in close proximity around the D Flag inside of the Art Museum. Rather than rushing out into the open, this player hunkered down inside and tried to pick off a few enemies in a nearby building. Firing a few perfect sniper rounds towards an enemy, none of the shots were registering. Confused at to what was happening, they took a few more steps out of cover, aimed at the floor and noticed no bullets were going through at all. Just moments later they were shot through the window and taken out of commission. It turns out the glass is only penetrable from one direction. A clear oversight in the design of the map, this offers a distinct advantage for players outside the building. While Assault Rifle and Sniper Rifle rounds weren’t enough to pierce through the inside of the glass, there’s no telling if projectiles such as grenades or rockets would make their way through. Perhaps they would explode upon impact and lead to another unfortunate death. “Legit I’m literally uninstalling lol. This game is so not worth the 200+GBs,” Reddit user The_8th_Degree chimed in after seeing the ridiculous bug in action. If Tavorsk District happens to come up in the map pool in your next Modern Warfare session, be sure to avoid this area if you’re on the inside. Until Infinity Ward issues a patch and fixes the area, it seems as though a number of unaware players are going to be agitated by this spot.

  • Absurd Modern Warfare glitch turns maps into a psychedelic experience – Dexerto

Absurd Modern Warfare glitch turns maps into a psychedelic experience Infinity WardA bizarre Modern Warfare bug is throwing players off of their game as extraordinary colors have taken over Zhokov Boneyard and various other maps in the latest Call of Duty title. Infinity Ward’s latest game has been plagued by all sorts of visual bugs since its 2019 release. From quirky rainbow-fuelled glitches to nightmare-inducing character models, the community has seen it all. The most recent issue more or less transports players into another plane of existence as textures fail to load in and bizarre patterns overlay maps in-game. Mid-way through a Ground War match on Zhokov Boneyard, a map that was introduced with the major Season Two content drop on February 11, Reddit user ‘BullyHunterIII’ experienced one of the most unusual bugs to date. While playing out in the open appeared to be just fine, when they walked inside a section of the map that pays homage to Modern Warfare 2’s Scrapyard, everything quickly turned to an odd shade of green. Read More: MW theory suggests MW3 maps are coming next – Almost similar to the looks of a thermal scope for instance, everything from player models to nearby slabs of stone all came across as something from another dimension while the bug played out. There’s no telling what led to the quirky glitch, but it certainly caught the player off-guard as they stood around the B Flag. When approaching various sources of light, the state of the bug adjusted slightly. From cooler shades of blue and green to warmer spots of yellow and red. Read More: Two more CoD 4 maps found in MW files – Jumping out of a window and stepping back outside of the building, things quickly reverted to the normal visual style of Modern Warfare. “I forgot to mention, it only happens when inside of a building,” the player added. Not the first time that such an issue has impacted Modern Warfare players, an issue just weeks out from launch in November, 2019, turned Ground War maps into vibrant, rainbow-esque landscapes. Infinity Ward is yet to comment on the latest visual glitch so there’s no indicating when a fix might be on the way. Until it is patched out, you might see some bizarre colors popping up throughout your next session.

  • Modern Warfare glitch lets player fight in third-person mode – Dexerto

Modern Warfare glitch lets player fight in third-person mode Infinty WardAn accidental Call of Duty: Modern Warfare bug has let players play the popular Survival mode in third-person – giving fans a look at what other modes could look like in the future. By nature, Call of Duty is a first-person shooter, but through the years, Infinity Ward has experimented with a few different things – including different looks and spins on traditional game modes. All the way back in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, there were third-person modes like team tactical and cage match that, as the name suggests, let you step outside the usual first-person view. While that mode split opinion, some fans have been hoping that it would make a return at some point – and a new glitch has made it possible. The third-person mode look was posted by Reddit user Tkade14, who noted that the accidental change had come while they were playing Survival mode on the Shoot House map. As the Redditor ran around the map, knifing the enemies that stood in their way, the game looked a bit more like Assasins Creed than Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. There was even a ‘waiting for revive’ animation that looked like it was straight out of Warzone. The different perspective was so intriguing that players even praised it for how fluid it actually looked – giving the impression that elements of third-person mode could very well be in the files. While that is obviously unknown, it would certainly give Infinity Ward the scope to add a third-person spin onto modes like Warzone battle royale in order to keep things fresh. Obviously, if that is something that they have in the works is unknown – a whole host of upcoming limited-time modes were recently leaked and a third-person mode wasn’t mentioned in the list. Though, seeing the support from some fans from this accidental sneak peek, it might be something that the developers want to take a look at later down the line.

  • Modern Warfare glitch hints at Juggernaut mode in Warzone – Dexerto

Modern Warfare glitch hints at Juggernaut mode in Warzone ActivisionA Warzone weapon glitch has seen Miniguns randomly appearing as ground loot, and it could be pointing towards a brand new game mode for the free-to-play title. Warzone has undergone a plethora of changes since it first launched in March. Most recently, Infinity Ward opened up the twelve bunkers that are dotted all over Verdansk. Each of the bunkers is littered with in-game loot that (if you get your hands on it) greatly bolsters your chances of earning extraction from Verdansk’s warzone. Alongside the Bunker 11 easter egg that could be potentially teasing some significant map changes, there could be a brand new weapon coming into the mix. Ripped straight from Modern Warfare’s multiplayer, the Minigun that the Juggernaut wields (15 killstreak) has been glitching into player’s games in Warzone. While players can’t directly interact with the weapon, they can see a full model of the weapon on the ground (like they’re able to pick it up). So what does this mean? Well, given that the weapon is there in the first place shows that it’s in the Warzone game files. So does this mean that Juggernauts are coming to Verdansk as we know it? Well, not necessarily. Juggernauts in Warzone would be devastatingly overpowered — they would tear through an entire team in seconds and would prove almost impossible to kill. Juggernaut Warzone mode? But what if they were added to their own exclusive mode, away from the tactical gameplay that Warzone has become known for? This is a theory of prominent Call of Duty data miner, ModernWarzone, who explained that there has been hints that a mode of this nature could be added sooner rather than later in a Tweet on May 23. According to the leaker, the mode would revolve around teams fighting for the Juggernaut suit to provide a spin on the current meta. Given that this might not be for everyone, a separate playlist for a fun spin on the classic Warzone feel would definitely be the way to go. Although, this is merely a tidbit of info extracted from the game files and should be taken with a grain of salt.

  • Modern Warfare glitch gives players unlimited double XP tokens – Dexerto

Modern Warfare glitch gives players unlimited double XP tokens Infinity WardCall of Duty players have found a strange glitch with the CoD Companion app, which gives unlimited double XP tokens to use in Modern Warfare and Warzone. Reaching the max rank possible in Call of Duty has always been a target for fans of the franchise and it is no different for Modern Warfare, despite the removal of the classic prestige system. As with past titles, Modern Warfare will also occasionally give players a boost, to quickly rank up or complete their battle pass, through double XP weekends and tokens. These double XP rewards are usually given out as rewards for playing matches and leveling up the battle pass or they can be found through different promotions that Modern Warfare runs. Double XP Glitch with CoD Companion Another way they can be earned is through Call of Duty’s Companion app, which lets you check up on your stats and profile from mobile devices. However, CoD YouTuber RatedLive shared a strange glitch with the app, which gives unlimited double XP tokens for free. The YouTuber explained that signing up for the app would give you tokens but there is a way to repeat this reward over and over again, giving you as many XP boosts as you want. “You guys can have an infinite amount of double XP on your account if you do it enough times,” Rated explained. He noted that players can quickly close the app to keep the rewards piled up, making it possible to gain as many double XP tokens as you want. Read More: How to fly further in Warzone – This is not the first time that an XP bug has been found in Modern Warfare, as another “unlimited XP” glitch with the Trials mode was recently fixed. Although Infinity Ward has yet to address this bug, it is quite likely that they will be looking to patch this glitch as well, in a future update.

  • Modern Warfare glitch actually created the best gun skin in the game – Dexerto

Modern Warfare glitch actually created the best gun skin in the game Infinity WardA player who stumbled onto a fiery bug in Modern Warfare may have actually just discovered the best weapon in the entire game, purely by accident. People have seen more than a few visuals inconsistencies for Infinity Ward’s latest jump into the Call of Duty franchise, but this time it could actually work into their favor since the player-base might actually want a way to repeat the bug. While playing through the campaign mode, Reddit user ‘Logan_magill25’ noticed his Kar98k was set ablaze out of nowhere. He respawned with a barrel on fire, infinitely enflamed on the part just in front of the scope mounted on top. The player wasn’t taking any damage from the effect, rather it was a random occurrence that Logan_magill25 just happened to catch. “Yes I was throwing a Molotov while I died,” Logan explained by recalling the steps they took to figure how the bug happened. “But I have no idea what happened I couldn’t get it to work again it might have saved just at the right point.” Even sprinting and aiming down the sights didn’t get rid of the glitch, as his gun was on fire without burning. But this looks like it could be a strange opportunity to capitalize on for the devs, as community reception for the bug hasn’t been bad at all. Fellow Reddit user ‘Tr1pleJay’ said: “One of the coolest bugs in gaming history lol.” While the bugged Kar98k looked aesthetically pleasing, when the player looked down the scope you could see that the top half portion of the lens was too lit – making it useless in any practical application. But there’s actually a precedence of Call of Duty devs giving into their community and mistakes by incorporating a bug as a feature for the actual game. “This is similar to [Sledgehammer Games’] WWII ‘pitch’ black camo,” user ‘JohnKSteb’ said. “It was an unintended bug that completely removed camos and gave it a very black look. EVERYONE loved it. So, Sledgehammer decided to LISTEN to the community and their next update they added the bug to the official camos.” And it’s true, they linked a thread for the bugged M1903 in MWII with players filling that forum up with a similar reception to that of the burning Kar91k. But there could be some improvising to do with the fire, however, like simply making the flames fan out around the rim of the scope, creating an impromptu effect for the scope’s boundaries when ADSing. This isn’t too common in FPS skins today, however. The bug presents a rare opportunity for Infinity Ward to get some positive community feedback from some players who might think that “THIS is the Damascus skin we all deserve!” It would definitely be the most captivating gun design in Modern Warfare, making it interesting to see if the devs can capitalize on a bug that accidentally made the best skin in the game.

  • Modern Warfare gameplay details are being leaked ahead of release – Dexerto

Modern Warfare gameplay details are being leaked ahead of release Just days out from the October 25 release ofCall of Duty franchise from developers Infinity Ward, Modern Warfare’s release is right around the corner, yet leakers have already started to reveal a great deal of information ahead of the official launch. From brand new map walkthroughs to early breakdowns of cosmetics, those with early access have opened the floodgates for an abundance of fresh intel. With multiplayer servers supposedly online, those with early access have been able to traverse each of the new maps as well as provide updates on select maps included in the recent beta. Read more: CoD pro Huke suspended from Twitter – One such map that was met with a touch of controversy throughout the beta period, was Azir Cave. With a large section of the map taking place in a dark indoor environment, it often became difficult to distinguish enemies from a distance. According to a recent Reddit post however, indoor lighting has been drastically improved for the full release. Furthermore, the same leak gave a first look at each and every Operator skin in the game. Based on the leaked footage, at launch, Modern Warfare will have a total of 20 unique Operators. Both the Coalition and Allegiance factions feature nine different characters with additional default variants for players just starting out. Each of these Operator models boast three collectible uniforms, leading to a wide assortment of customization in the full game. Additional tidbits were unveiled that touched on the core multiplayer experience. When taking damage, your screen will no longer transition to black and white. After an abundance of community feedback, the radar has been adjusted and zoomed out. A brand new spray and emote wheel has been implemented, allowing players to tag parts of the map with their unlocked imagery and humiliate opponents with some unique animations. While certain casual fans have been able to play through early physical copies, it appears as though pro players have been provided a few days of early access. With the full release out in the wild a few days early, if you’re looking to go into Modern Warfare completely unspoiled it might be best to steer clear of social media for a little while. It’s only a matter of time until pro players and content creators alike are broadcasting their POV in the latest iteration of the global FPS phenomenon.

  • Modern Warfare adds new mode & April Fool’s playlists in March 31 update – Dexerto

Modern Warfare adds new mode & April Fool’s playlists in March 31 update Infinity WardInfinity Ward has released what is expected to be the final Modern Warfare and Warzone update for Season 2 on March 31, and it includes a new game mode, plenty of playlist changes, and plenty of April Fool’s Day fun. With Modern Warfare’s second season rolling to a close, and considering last week’s delayed patch added a host of guns and a new map, many were predicting March 31’s update would be a lot smaller in size and scope. Those assumptions have been proven correct, but that doesn’t mean eager Call of Duty fans have been left with nothing. As well as a few April Fools additions, and the return of Snipers Only Gunfight 3v3, a new mode has arrived. Tonight’s playlist update for #ModernWarfare is rolling out now across all platforms! Check out Gunfight 3v3 Snipers, Cyber Attack Pro, and more….😏 — Infinity Ward (@InfinityWard) April 1, 2020 Here’s everything released & changed in the March 31 update: Cyber Attack Pro arrives in Modern Warfare The headlining mode released in the March 31 update is titled ‘Cyber Attack Pro,’ and it looks like a fast-paced doozy. Building on Modern Warfare’s tactical Cyber Attack mode, this Pro variant looks to up the ante again. The twist in Cyber Attack Pro is, instead of needing to revive your teammates, respawns are automatically enabled. This should create “frenetic and fast-paced gameplay,” Infinity Ward explained in their This Week in Call of Duty blog. April Fool’s Day Playlists As well as the new mode, the devs have also, as per usual, embraced April Fool’s with two new playlists, both seemingly focused around Shipment. Shipment is one of the series’ most popular maps, and the first new mode seems to tease the arena. All is not how it seems, however, with the I Have Trust Issues playlist. Instead of Shipment, players are dropped into 24/7 Piccadilly instead. The tip-off comes from the game mode’s description. The tongue-in-cheek info tab reads “Totally Shipment. Come on in. But just so you know, if you quit, there’s a penalty.” For any players lured in, there probably isn’t actually a harsh penalty. Read more: Scump reveals his favorite Warzone drop zone – The second game mode is much more likely what fans may be after: COD Players Only Want One Thing is a 10-vs-10 version of Shipment’s Moshpit playlist. The tiny map — built for small engagements — is likely to be overrun with players. There were also a few minor things added in the March 31 update. Players will be able to get double experience, double weapon experience, and will have access to double Battle Pass tier progress earn rates, all throughout this weekend. These double XP activations are available in multiplayer, Special Ops, or Warzone. They will be live across the weekend, from Friday, April 3 at 10 AM PDT, to Monday, April 6 at 10 AM PDT. Players will not need to download anything to take full advantage of the experience boosts, or the March 31 playlist and game mode updates.

  • Modern Warfare full multiplayer reveal date announced – what to expect – Dexerto

Modern Warfare full multiplayer reveal date announced – what to expect ActivisionAt long last, Call of Duty players and fans will soon be getting a full look at the multiplayer of the upcoming Modern Warfare title. Ever since Modern Warfare was confirmed to be this year’s installment of the Call of Duty series on May 31, players have been desperately waiting to be fed information about the multiplayer side of things. Up until this point, Activision and Infinity Ward had largely focused on the single-player aspects of the game, releasing details about the campaign while mostly keeping mum on the multiplayer. That, however, will all come to an end soon, as Activision finally revealed on July 11 that a full multiplayer reveal for MW will take place on Thursday, August 1 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST. “A new generation of Call of Duty Multiplayer is coming,” they tweeted. “Mark your calendars for the global reveal of the Modern Warfare Multiplayer Universe on August 1st.” A new generation of Call of Duty multiplayer is coming. Players should expect the August 1 reveal stream to contain a flurry of new MW announcements, details, and content, as the developers will finally pull back the curtains on game modes, gameplay mechanics, maps, and other aspects of the multiplayer. One thing is for certain – a lot of gameplay will be shown, probably enough to quell the starvation for content that players have been dealing with over the past month-and-a-half. With this reveal taking place fairly close to the scheduled October 25 release date, we could also possibly get news on any upcoming beta sessions, which are usually held every year shortly before the release of a new title. Aside from that, who knows what else Activision and Infinity Ward have up their sleeves for MW? We could be hit with some sort of bombshell announcement that’s been kept under wraps, such as a battle royale mode maybe? Modern Warfare multiplayer – what we know so far Players were given their first true glimpse of MW multiplayer on July 11, as several top streamers unveiled the brand new 2v2 Gunfight mode that will be included in the upcoming title. The mode introduced a new leaning mechanic never before seen in CoD, as well as hinted at fundamental changes to core functions, such as the removal of the mini-map and the lack of automatic healing. While many fans were a bit thrown off by how different multiplayer looked, a developer responded to their concerns by saying that a lot of the changes were made specifically for the Gunfight mode, and that the traditional aspects of CoD multiplayer would be featured in many of the other modes. In addition, Activision have confirmed that MW will ditch the “traditional” season pass in favor of free DLC content for everyone post-launch, and that cross-play will be supported between PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC for the first time in CoD history. There have also been a lot of leaks that have surfaced recently, revealing the possible lists of perks, killstreaks, and competitive modes in the upcoming title, as well as a brand new “reverse-CTF” mode. However, no one can really know for sure which of these supposed leaks are legitimate and which aren’t, so we’ll all just have to wait until August 1 to hear everything from the horse’s mouth. • Modern Warfare finally adds death count feature, but it will cost you – Dexerto

Modern Warfare finally adds death count feature, but it will cost you Infinity Ward have resolved the frequent complaint that deaths do not show on the scoreboard in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in numerous gamemodes – by making the feature available in a cosmetic item, costing around $20. In past games, the in-game scoreboard in a standard game of Team Deathmatch or Domination would typically show each player’s kills, deaths and assists. However, for Modern Warfare, the scoreboard was slimmed down and does not feature the death counter in a number of standard modes. This instantly drew complaints from players upon release, bemused that such a common feature had been dropped in for no discernible reason. However, in the content drop released as part of Season One in December, a new cosmetic item was added to the game which solves this very problem – but not for free. The item in question is one of the many wristwatches that players can acquire and wear on their character, with the ability to check it throughout a match. Named ‘Time to Die’, the watch is part of the ‘Mother Russia’ bundle, which costs 2000 CoD points in total, or roughly $20. Although it is a purely cosmetic item with no impact on gameplay, Infinity Ward may have had a slight oversight in adding a watch that displays deaths, while the scoreboard itself still lacks the basic feature. Some adjustments have been made to scoreboards in certain game modes already, so we know it’s possible, yet the developers seem to be holding out on having deaths show in selected playlists. Now that this watch is in the game, allowing anyone to see their deaths at any time (albeit at a price), there’s really no reason for Infinity Ward to hold back these statistics mid-match now. Overall, the Season One battle pass has been well-received. It does take a significant amount of game time to rank up the levels, but it is intended to last around two months, so there’s plenty of time for players to hit all the tiers, providing they play regularly enough. If you’re looking to rank up the battle pass as fast as possible, we’ve put together some tips for expediting the process.

  • Modern Warfare Feb 4 update patch notes: Gunfight Grind, Shoot House, more – Dexerto

Modern Warfare Feb 4 update patch notes: Gunfight Grind, Shoot House, more Infinity WardCall of Duty developers Infinity Ward released an update for Modern Warfare that adds the ‘Face Off Grind’ variant of Gunfight, brought back the fan-favorite Shoot House 24/7 playlist and more. With Season 1 on its last legs in Modern Warfare, developers Infinity Ward have injected the final bits of new content into the game before turning their full attention to Season 2. While this February 4 update is a relatively minor one compared to the patches released in recent weeks, it still introduced Face Off Grind, a new version of the popular 2v2 Gunfight mode. The patch also returned both the Shoot House 24/7 and Shipment 24/7 playlists to multiplayer and added some new modes to both Hardcore and 10v10 Mosh Pit. • Modern Warfare Feb 26 update patch notes for PS4, Xbox One, PC – Dexerto

Modern Warfare Feb 26 update patch notes for PS4, Xbox One, PC Infinity WardCall of Duty developers Infinity Ward have released a minor update for Modern Warfare addressing some bugs and issues. Another day, another update in the world of Modern Warfare as Infinity Ward have pushed out a small patch containing fixes for a few issues that were plaguing the game. The update removed the rank reset prompt screen that was showing when players loaded up their game following the major v1.15 patch that was released the day before. If you encounter a “”Rank Reset”” pop up after downloading today’s update, please click “”Continue”” and hop into multiplayer. Your stats and rank will not reset. — Infinity Ward (@InfinityWard) February 25, 2020 It also implemented fixes for Regiment invites, which are Modern Warfare’s version of clans, as well as the Quick Fix Perk, which apparently wasn’t “functioning as intended while used as a Specialist Perk.” Last but not least, killstreaks have been completely removed from the Call of Duty League Playlists. While that change had been introduced in the February 25 update, for some reason it wasn’t blocking all streaks. Here are the full patch notes for this February 26 update, as provided by Infinity Ward on Twitter. Removes rank reset prompt screen after yesterday’s update – Fixes for Regiment invites – Fix for the Quick Fix Perk not functioning as intended while used as a Specialist Perk – Fix for killstreaks still functioning in CDL playlists – As mentioned above, this mini-patch came as a followup to the biggest update in Modern Warfare since the one that launched Season 2 a couple of weeks ago. That v1.15 update introduced some more new Season 2 content into the game – a Gunfight map called Bazaar and three new playlists, including one that combined the fan-favorite maps of Shipment, Rust, and Shoot House in a single 24/7 option. Read More: All MW weapon nerfs & buffs in Feb 25 update – There were also some significant changes implemented, such as weapon balancing adjustments that nerfed/buffed several guns. The CDL Playlist was also tweaked, with Restriction warning icons added to the loadout-building section, round timer changes to both Domination and Search & Destroy, and a restriction placed on Thermite, Throwing Knives and Killstreaks. The Call of Duty community still, of course, is waiting for any kind of official news regarding the Warzone Battle Royale that’s supposedly coming soon to Modern Warfare. While there have been plenty of leaks, rumors, and speculation surrounding the mode, Infinity Ward and Activision have yet to even formally acknowledge its existence. However, all indications are that it’ll get announced and possibly even released in March, a theory further fueled by a massive list of Warzone-themed challenges that were recently leaked.

  • Modern Warfare Feb 25 patch notes: new Gunfight map, weapon changes, more – Dexerto

Modern Warfare Feb 25 patch notes: new Gunfight map, weapon changes, more Infinity WardCall of Duty developers Infinity Ward have released another update for Modern Warfare Season 2, which introduced the new Bazaar Gunfight map, several new playlists, as well as changes to weapons, the CDL Playlist and more. Season 2 continues to roll on in Modern Warfare as Infinity Ward have released more new content that didn’t make the cut when the season first launched. This latest v1.15 update, which went live on February 25, was a pretty sizable one, taking up 7GB of space on PlayStation 4, 11GB on Xbox One, and 10GB on PC. It added a new map to the Gunfight rotation called Bazaar, as well as several new playlists and modes, including one called Dirty Old House Boat that puts the fan-favorite maps Shipment, Rust, and Shoot House in a single 24/7 playlist. The patch implemented some other changes, as well, including adjustments to several weapons and attachments, tweaks to the Call of Duty League Playlist, and some general fixes and quality-of-live improvements. A thorough breakdown of this update can be found below, including the full patch notes. What’s new? BAZAAR GUNFIGHT MAP The newest addition to the Gunfight map pool is Bazaar, which is officially described as a “multi-level three-lane battlefield that takes place in a small corner of Urzikstan.” It’s the second new Gunfight map in Season 2, after Rust – but it won’t be the last, as the roadmap has teased more will be coming later on in the season. NEW PLAYLISTS AND MODES The patch included a playlist update that introduced four new ones to multiplayer: “Boots on the Ground War” – no tanks, teams will face-off on boots and small vehicles using Realism rules – 3v3 Snipers on Rust – available in Gunfight – Dirty Old House Boat – Shipment, Rust and Shoot House 24/7 – Giant Infection! – Weapon changes A surprise set of weapon tuning changes was also pushed through with this update, making adjustments to several guns and their attachments in multiplayer. Weapons affected include Season 2’s new Striker 45 SMG, Model 680, Origin 12, R9-0, Crossbow, SA87, and AK-47. CDL Playlist Several important updates were made to the Call of Duty League playlist in Modern Warfare. Now, when CDL Rules are enabled, players will see a Restrictions icon next to all banned items so they can build their classes properly. In the same vein, the changes that were made to the official CDL ruleset are now in effect as well: Domination round timer was reduced from six minutes to five and Search and Destroy’s from two minutes to one minute and 30 seconds. Last but not least, Thermite, Throwing Knives and Killstreaks are all now restricted, which was highly-requested by the player-base. Modern Warfare 1.15 update patch notes The full official patch notes for the February 25 update are available below, as provided by Infinity Ward. • Modern Warfare Feb 19 update patch notes: Regiment tag & Killchain fix – Dexerto

Modern Warfare Feb 19 update patch notes: Regiment tag & Killchain fix Infinity WardThe Infinity Ward devs released a hotfix patch for Modern Warfare that addressed the ‘Jockworth” error, Pointman perk issue with Killchain, bugged Regiment tags, and more. While the February 18 update gave the community new playlists to get into, the followup patch is addressing some of the more pressing issues that have been cropping up in the game. It hasn’t been long since Season 2 for Modern Warfare launched, bringing with it a ton of new content for players to sift through but it also introduced new errors for the devs to address. Regiment tags A burgeoning glitch in the game regarding Regiment tags were causing players some trouble with distinguishing friend from foe. With the new patch, Infinity Ward are pulling the plug on players who change their tags to get an edge over their competition. The problem occurred when players simply changed their Regiment tags to blue. But this caused confusion because people on the other team would confuse the tag as a friend and get eliminated before they noticed it wasn’t an ally. Jockworth error code fix A bug had been plaguing Gunfight tournaments for months with players reporting entire teams being kicked with only a “Jockworth” error to show for. “Same here, after every win, we get kicked after every game if we win it,” Reddit user ‘wBDark’ said. “Happened 4 times in a row now…why put something like this in the game if [Infinity Ward] can’t handle it.” Well, the devs are now getting a handle on it, with the latest patch set to fix the bug to prevent any more tourneys from getting axed. Pointman bug fix The devs are also addressing a strange bug with the Pointman perk where players were inadvertently racking up scores for Killchain with killstreak kills without having it equipped. Fixing the issue should make the perk act as intended, though it could be something that devs keep an eye on for closer examination. The February 19 patch was brief, but contains fixes for problems that have been popping up in Modern Warfare. Check out the full patch notes below courtesy of Infinity Ward: GENERAL FIXES: Fix for Regiment tags not appearing as intended – Fix for players receiving the “Jockworth” error while in Gunfight Tournaments – Fix for a bug where numbers on the team roster and numbers on the COD Caster minimap did not correspond – Pointman: Fix for an issue where Killchain scores were being given for killstreak kills without having Killchain equipped – Fix for a CDL Gunsmith exploit –

  • Modern Warfare Feb 18 patch notes – Rust 1v1, playlist update, more – Dexerto

Modern Warfare Feb 18 patch notes – Rust 1v1, playlist update, more Infinity WardCall of Duty developers Infinity Ward have rolled out the first Modern Warfare update since the launch of Season 2, which includes a 1v1 on Rust, a new multiplayer mode called NVG Reinforce, and more. It’s been a week since the highly-anticipated Season 2 of Modern Warfare released, and while much of fans’ attention has been trained on the unreleased Warzone battle royale, there’s still some new content to address. Much like Season 1, Activision didn’t release all of the new Season 2 content on the first day. Instead, they saved half of it to be rolled out in the coming weeks, starting with this February 18 playlist update. New modes and playlists The update has taken Modern Warfare for a stroll down memory lane with the addition of a new 1v1 mode on Rust. This is very similar to how players used to settle their in-game disputes back in MW2’s heyday, with some head-to-head action on the iconic sandy, industrial map. Read More: Easy way to get longshots on Rust – A new playlist called Flotation Oxidation was also been added, featuring both Rust 24/7 and Shipment 24/7 in one convenient place for those who prefer nonstop gameplay. Also introduced in this update was NVG Reinforce, a classic multiplayer mode that combines the flag capture aspect of Domination with the lives system used in Search & Destroy and Cyber Attack. Read More: Absurd MW exploit makes it easy to get Nukes – However, this version is played under the cover of darkness, as players are forced to use night vision goggles and bright laser sights to take down enemies. Make sure to visit our Modern Warfare Reinforce guide for tips and tricks on how to improve, and ultimately dominate, in this mode. What else has been changed? Apart from the new modes and playlists, there isn’t too much to write home about regarding this update. It removed the Double XP boosts that were enabled on some of the modes for Valentine’s Day, returning them all to regular XP. Tavorsk District was also added back into the Ground War rotation after it had been temporarily removed in the February 14 update, so that Infinity Ward could fix some issues and bugs that were plaguing it. Modern Warfare Feb 18 playlist update patch notes: Playlist Update for today! Removed 2XP from playlists – Added 1v1 Rust (“1v1 Me Bro!”) – Added Rust 24/7 and Shipment 24/7 into one playlist (“Flotation Oxidation”) – Added NVG Reinforce – Added Tavorsk District back into Ground War rotation –

  • Modern Warfare Feb 14 patch notes: V-Day modes, Gunfight Tournament, more – Dexerto

Modern Warfare Feb 14 patch notes: V-Day modes, Gunfight Tournament, more Infinity WardInfinity Ward have released a playlist update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that features new Valentine’s Day-themed names for various modes, the return of Gunfight Tournament, and more. February 14 is Valentine’s Day and what better way to celebrate it than a new Modern Warfare update, especially one that changes up the game to feel a bit more… romantic? The patch has replaced most of the multiplayer modes’ names with their V-Day equivalents, such as Double Date (Gunfight), Heartpoint (Hardpoint), Friends With Benefits (Ground War), and more. https://twitter.com/CallofDuty/status/1228386378255257600 The update also brought back Gunfight Tournament – an in-game bracket competition for the popular 2v2 mode that awards cosmetic rewards to teams that do well. As for everything else, Tavorsk District has been temporarily removed from Ground War as the devs work to fix some of the bugs on it, and there were also some general fixes implemented as well. Modern Warfare Valentine’s Day name changes and 2XP Infinity Ward actually changed a lot of modes’ names for Valentine’s Day, both on the main multiplayer screen and in the Quick Play filter. In addition the Double Date and Ready to Mingle (Rust 24/7) both have XP boosts active – players will receive Double XP and Double Weapon XP when enjoying those playlists. Other name changes include Hot Singles in Your Area, Wanna Cyber, Punish Me, Looking for the One, Love Hotel, Got the Digits, and Third Wheel. Unfortunately, as comical as these names are, they are only just that, as nothing within these modes and playlists were actually changed. Modern Warfare Gunfight Tournament Gunfight Tournament was first introduced in Modern Warfare back in late November but only for a limited time, as Infinity Ward removed it shortly thereafter to improve it and fix some of the issues. It finally returned on February 14, so players can no go into the popular 2v2 mode an actually compete in a bracket-style competition. The reward structure has slightly changed: players will now receive cosmetic item rewards for doing well, not just winning the whole thing. For example, the current version of the tourney offers different rewards for those who reach the Preliminaries, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and become champions. Modern Warfare Feb 14 update patch notes GENERAL FIXES Fix for a bug that allowed players to use attachments not yet earned – Exploit fixes on various maps and modes – Fixed a bug that leave a players CDL filter active after they’ve joined a party without CDL filters – Backend fixes –

  • Modern Warfare fans upset as evidence suggests skill-based matchmaking – Dexerto

Modern Warfare fans upset as evidence suggests skill-based matchmaking Infinity WardEvidence has been found that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer will include skill-based matchmaking, and players are not happy about it in the least. The first of two Beta weekends for Modern Warfare came to a close on September 16, after four days of access for those playing on the PlayStation 4. While there was a variety of things discussed about the current build of the game, one of the topics that was brought up the most was skill-based matchmaking (SBMM). SBMM is an in-game system that pits higher-skilled players against each, and player skill is determined by the trend of their performances in recent matches. Read More: IW respond to MW mini-map controversy – This means that those who perform well throughout the course of several matches will be matched up against each other, and those who don’t put up good stats and results will end up facing lower caliber players. While SBMM has not been 100% officially confirmed to have existed in the Modern Warfare Beta, YouTuber ‘S0ur’ conducted an experiment on his own that yielded evidence suggesting there was something definitely there. In a video he published on September 16, he demonstrated how intentionally playing bad and losing matches for five games in a row put him in a considerably weaker lobby for the sixth match, during which he tried to play normally and actually did really well. Read More: New Ground War details revealed for MW – While that is not conclusive and irrefutable proof that Infinity Ward had implemented SBMM, the YouTuber did bring up an interview the developers had done with GameInformer in which they talked about potentially installing such a system for multiplayer. “I know there was a GameInformer interview a couple of months ago where they talked about wanting to have SBMM in this game, but that they were also aware of not wanting to ruin the experience for the higher skilled group. They acknowledged that if it gets too sweaty, that isn’t fun.” Judging by many of the comments on Infinity Ward’s Beta wrap-up Reddit post on September 16, that sentiment is also shared by a lot of players who don’t want there to be SBMM in multiplayer. “I have decided to cancel my pre-order because SBMM defeats the whole purpose of CoD, in my opinion,” wrote ‘DazzledTad.’ “If I want to sweat, I already have Overwatch and Rainbow6 for that.” “I may cancel the preorder if SBMM stays,” added ‘Lucky1ex1.’ “It’s unreal how bad it is for the longevity of the game. Nobody wants a sweat-fest every single game. I played on my son’s shitty account and it was unreal the difference that it makes. Random lobbies are better vs punishing better players for being better, it does not make it fun for us to be in a constant clan way.”

  • Modern Warfare fans highlight major disadvantage for PC players – Dexerto

Modern Warfare fans highlight major disadvantage for PC players Infinity WardCall of Duty: Modern Warfare fans have called for a change to be made after discovering a major disadvantage for PC players in-game. The release of the latest CoD title, Modern Warfare, saw the introduction of cross-platform play, allowing players on different consoles to match up against one another. To make matches as competitive as possible, gameplay and in-game settings, such as FOV and aim assist, vary depending on the platform, although some have noticed one major disadvantage that PC players are faced with. One of the most frustrating experiences in a Call of Duty multiplayer match is when a player is left helpless to oncoming opponents after being hit with a stun grenade. However, Modern Warfare Reddit user u/J3RRY__ felt as if the effects that stun grenades had on PC players were worse, and uncovered some very surprising results after testing the difference between console and PC back in November 2019. They revealed that it took PC players twice as long as console players to turn their aim to the side while the tactical equipment’s concussive effects remained active. The player also highlighted that even changing a player’s mouse DPI or the in-game sensitivity setting had no difference on the stun grenade’s effects. PC stun bug not fixed after months This test was conducted in November 2019, but the issue is still affecting PC players months later. Keyboard and mouse players are becoming impatient for fix, with one complaining “how has this still not been fixed/addressed? Whenever I’m stunned I’m literally frozen in time, yet when a controller player is stunned, they can look around way faster?” Unfortunately for PC players, there has not been any change to the stun’s effects as of yet and users on the Modern Warfare Subreddit such as u/VYJ have become vocal about the longstanding issue. It is unclear if this feature was intended by Infinity Ward to be more lenient towards those playing on console, as it often claimed that those on keyboard and mouse have an advantage over controller players. But surely this much of a disparity is simply unfair for mouse users. If Infinity Ward are aware of the problem, we can perhaps hold out for a fix in the Season Two update.

  • Modern Warfare fans create simple solution to replace League Play – Dexerto

Modern Warfare fans create simple solution to replace League Play Infinity WardOne avid Call of Duty player has come up with an easy replacement for League Play in Modern Warfare, as fans hoping to see the highly-requested mode become impatient with Infinity Ward. League Play has been one of the most demanded features in Call of Duty games since its inclusion in Black Ops II. Treyarch’s 2012 shooter perfectly incorporated the ranked mode, seeing players put in the shoes of competitive players for in-game cycles. It has never returned with as much vigor as it had in Black Ops II, but a number of games (mostly Treyarch) have had dedicated Ranked playlists. Despite its popularity, Infinity Ward have given no indication as to their interest in implementing it into Modern Warfare, other than a fleeting comment prior to launch. One fan has suggested a way Infinity Ward could allow players to enjoy competitive play, without having to spend months refining a League Play alternative. The Reddit user explained that the opening CDL weekend heightened their desire to play a ranked mode with the professional rule set. “The matches last weekend made me try out pro classes and strategies,” they said. “When I’m playing SnD the entire other team runs 725s, riot shields, claymores, etc.” “I also know the chances of us getting League Play is super slim, if not zero, because of IW’s history,” they finished. “So the least they can do is give us a moshpit playlist with CDL rules?” Infinite Warfare, Infinity Ward’s previous CoD title, had a ‘ranked’ playlist added, but was nowhere near as immersive as League Play has been. It is similar to the idea floated by the CoD player. With the growth of CoD esports, the professional players use a varied ruleset to remove certain undesirable aspects of the game. Things like UAVs, claymores, shotguns and riot shields are never included, to promote greater consistency in gameplay. The CDL ruleset is already in the game, available in private matches. So surely it would not require much effort to add a public playlist with these rules, without needing the development time for a fully-fledged, MMR-based ranked mode. The player’s argument is not particularly new, with many players preferring an in-game environment that does not allow for lower-skilled weapons, such as shotguns (sorry shotgun fans) and proximity-based explosives. While the clamor for a CDL based playlist grows, Infinity Ward remain tight-lipped about whether or not Modern Warfare will see one at all.

  • Modern Warfare fans send Activision “clear” warning about supply drops – Dexerto

Modern Warfare fans send Activision “clear” warning about supply drops ActivisionModern Warfare fans are clearly concerned about Activision’s influence on the upcoming title, prompting the community to issue a warning to the publishers about future microtransactions through supply drops. The Call of Duty franchise, as legendary as it is, has been marred in recent titles by questionable microtransaction structures that go beyond awarding players with cosmetics or the like. Players feel like the competitive integrity in previous titles like Black Ops 4 was compromised when the game started to lock “stat-boosted weapons or stat-boosting modifiers” behind monetization mechanics. This resulted in a battlefield that felt skewed toward people who paid for better equipment as opposed to having an equal and fair arsenal among all players. With word that Infinity Ward has changed course from Modern Warfare’s “player-first system” to one that will have weapons available to be earned in Supply Drops, the community are sounding the alarms to let the devs know that isn’t going to help the game long term. “Activi$ion needs to understand that the community outrage was never about gambling mechanics (loot boxes) or MTXs (microtransactions) as a concept,” Reddit user ‘HellcatJoker’ said. “… The outrage is about locking stat-boosted weapons or stat-boosting modifiers behind the slot machine.” Clarifying their position, the community are fine with microtransactions in theory, just so long as they don’t provide any player a leg up on their opponents. The user explains that “all players want is a guarantee from Activision that the MTX system… restricts ‘rewards’ to COSMETIC ONLY ITEMS.” Customization in Call of Duty games have exploded in popularity due to sprays, emotes, weapon skins, stickers, and more. While the community would prefer the devs stick to the realism that Modern Warfare wants to deliver on when considering cosmetics, there are loads of options to explore when supporting the game post-launch. But they agree that what’s “unacceptable is creating special, exotic, one-hit kill weapons with a .001% drop rate and hiding them in the MTX lottery.” Monetization practices “ruined” previous Call of Duty entries for a lot of fans, and a bit of compromise from both publishers as well as fans is all it would take to keep Modern Warfare thriving after its October 25 release.

  • Modern Warfare fan creates perfect overhaul to progression system – Dexerto

Modern Warfare fan creates perfect overhaul to progression system Infinity Ward revamped the traditional Call of Duty progression system with Modern Warfare, bringing but the change has not been well received by a large portion of the fanbase. Could this simple revision be exactly what the doctor ordered? Although fans have been quick to find faults in Modern Warfare, it is often accompanied by a ruck of praise. Nonetheless, Infinity Ward have a lengthy list of snags that will keep them busy throughout the holiday season. While smaller issues are dealt with through patches in updates, one fan has raised attention to an issue that is deep-rooted within Modern Warfare’s multiplayer experience — player progression. The crux of the renovated progression system is to ensure that ranks run parallel to the season-based content that will be dropped throughout the year — an in-depth break-down of the player progression is presented in Activision’s blog. While on the surface this provides a refreshing change to the decade-old prestige system, faithful fans of the franchise have given the new framework the cold-shoulder. However, one Reddit user has devised a hybrid progression system that would provide players with the best of both worlds. Posted to the Modern Warfare subreddit, the Redditor went back to a more traditional (prestige-esque) system, which would simultaneously permit continuous weapon ranking. As with previous iterations of the series, players would be rewarded with a fresh emblem after maxing out each set of Officer ranks. Alongside earning new badges after every 100 levels, another addition to the concept would allow players to display their badges. This could be achieved by either selecting them to accompany a player’s calling card (i.e., in a virtual trophy cabinet of sorts), or to sport them on their Operator’s uniform. While the Redditor’s simple combination of traditional progression and the newly implemented season-based system was lapped up in the comments, Infinity Ward will most likely be sticking to their guns with this one. Season 1 is over one week old already, meaning that players will be well on their way to maxing out their Officer ranks while enjoying a fresh batch of new content.

  • Modern Warfare fan creates jaw-dropping Ghost cosplay – Dexerto

Modern Warfare fan creates jaw-dropping Ghost cosplay Infinity WardOne Modern Warfare fan has shared their incredible Ghost cosplay, perfectly recreating the infamous British Special Forces operator. Despite being an immensely popular title, Call of Duty has not amassed the cosplay following it could potentially have. Compared to games like Apex Legends and Borderlands 3, where incredible cosplays are dropped almost daily, CoD appears to be lagging behind. That’s not to say that there are no CoD fans capable of incredible cosplays, however, as Reddit user ‘Alak87‘ proved once again on June 5. Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley is best known for his appearance in Modern Warfare 2’s Campaign. A member of Task Force 141, he has become immensely popular in Call of Duty lore, much like his compatriot Captain Price. He is betrayed by Shepherd in Modern Warfare 2, being ‘killed’ alongside Roach. Best known for his skull-patterned balaclava, headset, and dark red sunglasses, the operator was brought back to life by the Redditor, who explained that they started working on the cosplay as part of a lockdown project. Other fans were quick to praise the outfit, which captures the essence of the SAS officer perfectly. The skull mask is there, as is the trademark headset. There is even a camouflage kneepad to round off the incredible look. The post garnered a lot of attention on the Modern Warfare subreddit, sitting at nearly 15,000 upvotes at the time of writing. It goes to show the lengths cosplayers will go to in order to perfect their outfits – with what looks like a brown shower curtain doubling as a cape. The innovative use of household items is just one of the reasons the cosplay looks so incredible. It joins some other insane CoD cosplays, like this Nikto outfit we shared back in March.

  • Modern Warfare fail shows why automated callouts need to be removed – Dexerto

Modern Warfare fail shows why automated callouts need to be removed New mechanics in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare changed the multiplayer experience for a lot of players, but features like the automated callouts have been more hurtful than helpful. There’s been a ton of community feedback about the new, slower approach to combat in Modern Warfare, which hasn’t been in a CoD title for quite some time. While players adjust to the new pace of the title, they’ve been taken by surprise from strange features in MW. With slower gameplay comes more chances to catch players by surprise, as some people opt to run around the map to push advantages – that is, until the game betrays you in the most bizarre way possible. Great callout, terrible timing That’s the predicament Reddit user ‘CrosVs’ found themselves in when they were waiting for the opportune moment to strike when the game ultimately revealed their location to the other team. “The callouts are very counterintuitive and make no sense most of the time,” they said. “In this clip, for example, there’s no ally even near me, and my character likes to mention to the enemy that I do indeed see movement.” As one opponent had bypassed their location, another enemy came into sight down the way, which might have triggered one of the in-game automated callouts: “I see movement.” The main problem with these callouts are that both teams can hear them. Which in turn, means that anyone near the callout is capable of hearing the triggered response. Since the in-game mechanic was able to tip off the foe, they quickly turned around to take out the covert player. While the callout’s timing was terrible for the player, all is not without hope. Infinity Ward also feels like this probably isn’t the right direction for automated callouts, since it can obviously hinder the game. Excited to get the footstep tuning in live along with these other changes. More updates in the works: – more restricted player call out logic – prevent enemies from hearing call outs in all modes – challenge system fixes – weapon tuning – spawn updates https://t.co/YF0KBYttLT— Joe Cecot (@JoeCecot) November 2, 2019 Infinity Ward’s Co-Design Director of Multiplayer Joe Cecot already said that the dev team are exploring ways to negate this from happening by preventing “enemies from hearing call-outs in all modes.” Although it’s unknown when that update should take effect, that should put an end for unfortunate eliminations at the hands of automated callouts.

  • Modern Warfare exploit gives two Care Packages for the price of one – Dexerto

Modern Warfare exploit gives two Care Packages for the price of one A newly discovered exploit in Modern Warfare highlights how players can double up on Care Package drops each and every time they call one in. Since the release of Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare on October 25, there has been no shortage of quirky bugs and ridiculous glitches throughout the multiplayer component of the FPS title. On November 28, an absurdly efficient exploit has been uncovered that allows players to call in two Care Package streaks while actually only having to earn one. A post from Reddit user ‘Rumorhaslt’ demonstrated just how the ridiculous exploit can be implemented throughout any game mode across any map. After having earned a single Care Package killstreak through four consecutive eliminations, an EMP Drone Field Upgrade is surprisingly all that is needed to replicate the lucky-dip streak. Calling in an EMP Drone directly overhead and then throwing out the Care Package grenade at the right moment, will disable your HUD and provide you with a fresh Care Package to use once more. While obviously a risky endeavor due to the associated damage that comes from directly absorbing the EMP Drone strike, it would definitely be advisable to find a secluded area before employing the trick. Being able to double up on the Care Package obviously provides players with much greater odds of securing a top-tier killstreak in the middle of a match. From a VTOL Jet to a Gunship, accessing such devastating streaks without actually having to earn the associated kills is a huge benefit. There’s no denying just how powerful this exploit can be, especially considering how rapidly the EMP Drone Field Upgrade recharges throughout battle. Players are able to manipulate the Care Package streak essentially every time without fail, making this one of the most powerful bugs in the game to date. If you’ve never been the type to select the Care Package as one of your three killstreaks when entering any given match, this new exploit won’t do much to change that. However, it’s absolutely crucial to keep in mind when grinding out public matches. If you see an EMP Drone being called in on an obscure location, there’s a good chance that two Care Packages could be up for grabs. Infinity Ward has been quick to address a number of critical issues since the release of Modern Warfare, so there’s a good chance that this exploit is taken care of before things really get out of hand in public matches.

  • Modern Warfare exploit lets players explore possible Battle Royale map – Dexerto

Modern Warfare exploit lets players explore possible Battle Royale map Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players might be able to get an early glimpse at the game’s alleged battle royale map thanks to a sneaky camera exploit while spectating on Vacant. It has long been rumored that a battle royale mode would be making its way to Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare, and just two months after launch, players have discovered a crafty camera trick that might have provided a first look at the new map. Recent game files that were leaked online unveiled a wide array of new information including a proposed player count of 200, and a unique respawning system that involves 1v1 battles in the Gulag. With a full overhead view of the map supposedly uncovered as well, specific zones such as Call of Duty 4’s Overgrown, were on full display. A brand new camera exploit however, seems to indicate that the foundations of the Battle Royale map are already present within Modern Warfare. Showcased in a December 21 video, Reddit user ‘KingBeezoR’ demonstrated how this unique camera trick can be executed while spectating in a private match on Vacant, which returned to the franchise on December 18 in the v1.12 update. Maneuvering the camera in such a way as to rise above Vacant and reach beyond the properly textured bounds of the traditional map, players will be able to see all sorts of familiar terrain in the distance. From the enormous Karst River Quarry and Tarvosk District Ground War maps, to areas featured throughout the Spec Ops mode, these large-scale battlefields are all laid out within close proximity of one another. Underscoring the likelihood of a potential 200-player battle royale mode coming soon. Moreover, flying the camera further out of bounds gives a fresh look at some unique architecture that could be scattered throughout various other maps in the near future. With minimally detailed textures prevalent across the board however, it’s worth taking these new areas with a grain of salt, as they might be nothing more than tests from Infinity Ward map designers for the time being. There’s no telling if all of this land will be utilized for the Battle Royale mode, as certain areas could be fleshed out and turned into brand new Ground War maps or even smaller 6v6 creations. A massive castle highlighted in the video for instance, could serve as its very own objective-based map in future DLC, with sprawling pathways and multi-leveled design. However, this unique creation could just as easily be a tiny section of an overall Battle Royale locale coming soon. With plenty of unused buildings and terrain all mapped out in Modern Warfare already, it appears as though Infinity Ward has plans in the works for some major additions in the near future. While there’s no predicting when a potential Battle Royale mode will be implemented in the latest Call of Duty title, with this gigantic play area in-game already, dedicated players could be dropping in alongside 199 others in the very near future. Game files uncovered in a recent patch have outlined the unique loot, killstreaks, perks, and more that could be present in a future Battle Royale mode in Modern Warfare.

  • Modern Warfare exploit makes defusing impossible in Search & Destroy – Dexerto

Modern Warfare exploit makes defusing impossible in Search & Destroy ActivisionA brand new Modern Warfare exploit, discovered by a Reddit user, uses a trophy system to make defusing the bomb in Search & Destroy next to impossible by raising it into the air. It’s really not as complicated as it sounds.[jwplayer L7zZP3SQ] Search and Destroy is a classic CoD multiplayer mode. Two teams with no respawns have to fight over bombs around the map. One team has to attack and destroy the bomb, while the other team has to protect and defuse. In order to defuse the bomb, however, the team actually needs access to it and under normal scenarios, the attacking team will automatically drop the bomb once it’s planted. Unfortunately, a new bug has been discovered that essentially moves the bomb so far out of bounds, that there’s no possible way to pick it up in order to perform that crucial defuse. The bug, which was discovered by Reddit user OGGigi, basically raises the bomb so far above the planting site and the player that there’s no possible way to reach it without using some exploits of your own. This is done by placing a trophy system a certain distance away from the site, planting the bomb so that it lands right on top of the aforementioned equipment, and then destroying it. As seen in the video posted on Reddit, this essentially shoots the bomb so that it’s floating high above the site. The worst part is, this isn’t the only bug that’s been discovered involving SnD and trophy systems. A couple weeks back, players discovered a bug that would allow throwing knifes to basically float inside of the bomb so that when the enemies went to try and defuse it, it kill them immediately. With these types of problems, Search and Destroy is slowly but surely becoming an unplayable game with bugs that Infinity Ward needs to fix as soon as possible.

  • Modern Warfare exploit guarantees easy wins in Search & Destroy – Dexerto

Modern Warfare exploit guarantees easy wins in Search & Destroy ActivisionA unique Modern Warfare exploit has been uncovered, which literally allows players to turn a planted bomb into a meat grinder — making it almost impossible for an enemy to defuse in Search & Destroy. Search & Destroy is a game of wits. Getting a tactical advantage on your opposite number will more often than not put you in a favorable position to win a round. While pros at the highest level will put on all kinds of strategic masterclasses to get one up on their enemies, there are other ways of making life extremely difficult for your opponent — and no, we’re not talking about loadout manipulation. One eagle-eyed YouTuber has discovered an exploit in Modern Warfare which will essentially turn an active bomb into the most dangerous ‘player’ on the server. Here’s how it’s done. Throwing Knives are your best friend Saeroi aptly named this exploit ‘The Blender’ — and for good reason. Before getting into the nitty-gritty, you’ll need to ensure that you have a loadout with Throwing Knives as your Lethal Equipment and a Trophy System as your Field Upgrade. The crux of this exploit is to turn a planted bomb into a floating meat grinder. To get started, place a Trophy System where you want to plant the bomb. Second, plant the bomb on top of the Trophy System to make it float above the ground. Next, walk into the bomb and throw your knives perpendicular to the bomb, where they’ll start spinning as if they were rotating through the air. Finally, destroy the Trophy System so the bomb is floating in mid-air. That’s it, it’s that simple. Any enemies running through the bomb will immediately get tagged by the Throwing Knife as if it was being hurled towards them — meaning instant death. Unless the enemies are savvy to the exploit — and avoid getting too close to the bomb — this will make it nigh on impossible for them to defuse before the explosive detonates. So while your team is attacking, this is an easy round win. Of course, Infinity Ward will likely catch wind of the exploit in due course, and as such, will likely issue out a patch as a hotfix. So if you’re looking to give your enemies a puzzle that they can’t solve, this exploit wouldn’t go a miss.

  • Modern Warfare exploit allows players to carry three weapons – Dexerto

Modern Warfare exploit allows players to carry three weapons Players can carry up to three weapons in Modern Warfare, thanks to a glitch with the ‘Weapon Drop’ Field Upgrade. There’s nothing worse than running out of ammo when you’re on the verge of your next killstreak. If you’ve been grinding Modern Warfare since launch, you’ve likely encountered this issue before now. Unless you’re running Scavenger – which is rarely the case, as most player’s sport Cold-Blooded – then you can likely sympathize with that feeling of entering a gunfight with no bullets in the chamber. However, one eagle-eyed player has uncovered another way of giving yourself additional ammo. Well, more specifically, adding a third weapon to your arsenal. First, you need to ensure that you have the Weapon Drop Field Upgrade enabled. Secondly, you need to call-in the Field Upgrade after enough time has elapsed. However, this is the crux of the exploit… After calling in the cache of high-powered weapons, you want to leave your weapons holstered while you wait for it to arrive, the Redditor explains. As long as you remain in a holstered state when you collect your weapon from the drop, you’ll add a third gun to your ordnance. The ‘glitch’ portion of this exploit is due to the lack of auto-switch animation from the character model. By drawing parallels to the Care Package killstreak, this is clearly an unintended bug. While Infinity Ward are likely hard at work working on a series of hotfixes for map glitches, friendly player-model collisions and weapon animation bugs (to name but a few). So a glitch that actually favors players will likely be pushed to the back of the queue. However, expect to see more players running the Weapon Drop Field Upgrade, especially in Ground War game modes.

  • Modern Warfare easter eggs hint at return of Ghost as Season 2 Operator – Dexerto

Modern Warfare easter eggs hint at return of Ghost as Season 2 Operator ActivisionModern Warfare players have been coming across new easter eggs throughout the game which could signal a return for Ghost, but this time as a new Operator in Season 2. Infinity Ward dropped a massive update on January 22 with the launch of v1.13 patch which brought with it the deadly Crossbow, RAM-7 rifle balances among others, an upgrade to Field Upgrades and lot more. Along with everything listed on the patch notes, players believe that the 1.13 update hid a few easter eggs on various maps for what could be the devs’ way of hyping up the launch of Season 2 with a fan-favorite character from Call of Duty. Users have been reporting strange “glitches” on different screens in the game. Reddit user ‘Mrnamesarehard’ was on Piccadilly when the wall of screens in the heart of the map briefly showed an image of a skull. The ghostly image was gone as soon as it appeared, setting speculation ablaze for what could be the next major debut as Season 1 winds down. Ghost would definitely be one of the most hyped returns in Modern Warfare, so it’s no surprise that Infinity Ward would opt to throw in some teasers rather than outright announcing the character. More sightings have been reported, this time on Tavorsk District on the menus for one of the restaurants on the map. Reddit user ‘SurvTM’ came across another skull-faced figure after the 1.13 patch went live, which looked really familiar to the other sighting. In the middle of December, people could see basically the same image on a TV set in Arklov Peak way before the 1.13 ever dropped. Even then, the general consensus was that IW was teasing their upcoming operator as a Season 2 drop. “The rumor is that it is a revamped Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley but it could be an entirely different ‘ghost’ operator,” user ‘JohnieNobleHam’ said. “Either way I believe they recently released the teasers to let us know he will be arriving either in the next season pass or in the next buyable operators.” If the rumors turn out to be true, IW could be set to release one of the most iconic characters in CoD history in their 2019 installment.

  • Modern Warfare easter egg could tease Playstation 5 release date – Dexerto

Modern Warfare easter egg could tease Playstation 5 release date A video game-related easter egg discovered inside Call of Duty Modern Warfare could contain hints at the Playstation 5’s release date. Modern Warfare is Activision’s latest installment in the Call of Duty series and players have been busy exploring the campaign and multiplayer modes. One of the most interesting things they’ve found so far has been an Activision game console, which could contain hints towards the PS5. What’s with Activision’s console? The so-called ‘Actibase’ console appears on the London campaign stage and the Tavorsk District ground war map. Call of Duty YouTuber ItsKapow discovered an Actibase advertisement on Tavorsk District that contains the date “25.11.2020”. 600 The Playstation 5 is also set to come out in 2020 – so this advert in the Modern Warfare universe could be a hint at when the system will drop. Of course, it could just be a random date chosen by developers for the in-game advert – but the PlayStation 4 also came out in November, the same month hinted at in the ad. The ad could be nothing more than scenery, and until we get more information on an official release date from Sony we probably won’t know for sure. What will the PS5 bring to the table? It’s widely expected that the ability to play games in native 4K will be a basic requirement of the PlayStation 5. Reports suggest that developers may already have received developer kits from Sony, which line-up with CD Projekt Red’s claims that Cyberpunk 2077 was being developed for both current and next-generation consoles. It seems that gamers will have to wait until an undated PSX event at the earliest before we receive any official confirmation from Sony about the PS5. Modern Warfare: Dr Disrespect shares how to improve 2v2 Gunfight maps Dr Disrespect – Twitch / Infinity WardAfter getting a chance to try out the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2v2 Gunfight Alpha, Twitch superstar Dr Disrespect shared his two cents about the game so far. The public finally got its first true taste of the upcoming highly anticipated Modern Warfare title on August 22, when Infinity Ward turned on the Alpha servers for the 2v2 Gunfight mode. As expected, many of the Call of Duty community’s biggest names have given the Alpha a try, and most seem to have enjoyed what they’ve seen so far. One of those prominent figures was Dr Disrespect, who has since shared his thoughts about Docks – a multi-tiered new map in Gunfight. Docks was not part of the original map set offered in the Alpha on day one of testing, as Infinity Ward added it to the game on day two. Shipyard showdown. I feel the maps size can increase by 20-30% w/ an additional layer of cover options. Do I need to make a visit and carve out a design? I mean, I designed half the maps for Advanced Warfare including Solar, Instinct, Recovery, Ascend, Horizon, DLC etc etc. Passion. — Dr Disrespect (@drdisrespect) August 23, 2019 All together, the Modern Warfare 2v2 Gunfight Alpha will feature five maps in total – King, Pine, Speedball, Docks and Stack. The first three maps were available on day one of the Alpha, while Docks was released on day two, and Stack will likely added on the third day. These maps have all been designed with a reduced size, since the matches played on them only include four players, and will not be featured in regular Multiplayer playlists.

  • Call of Duty director responds to community harassment on social media – Dexerto

Call of Duty director responds to community harassment on social media Call of Duty’s game director Joe Cecot appeared in the comments of a popular r/ModernWarfare post to reply to a silly video and ended up revealing why he’s been spending less time in that part of the game’s community. When passion for something gets taken too far, it paints a poor picture of a community. One of the leaders for the Call of Duty Modern Warfare team made that abundantly clear on the Modern Warfare subreddit when a reply to a silly video soon turned into a discussion about people online taking things way too seriously. Joe Cecot replied to a post that had made its way to the top of the r/modernwarfare subreddit, showing a silly interaction between players involving a door, a shield, and a little bit of bamboozling. Cecot responded a link to the Unexpected subreddit, and was met with a reply expressing a lack of surprise that Cecot and other Infinity Ward representatives avoided ‘this s**tstorm of a subreddit.” On its surface, the r/modernwarfare subreddit is home to highlights, humorous clips, and the occasional bit of criticism or feedback regarding the latest Call of Duty installment. But Cecot revealed that some users were taking things too far via private messages. Cecot wrote, “It can be rough. I’d prefer less PMs about my children dying horrible deaths. Spending less time here. Thanks for the thanks. We’re still working crazy hard!” To the credit of the subreddit, Cecot was met with replies thanking him and the dev team for their continued support and efforts. Also, a screenshot of Cecot’s reply with a declaration that people who do that kind of thing are “the scum of the earth” catapulted to the very top of the subreddit. Atrocious behavior and over-the-top negative feedback like the stuff Cecot has received in private messages is unfortunately not uncommon to Modern Warfare. Ashton Williams, Sr. Communications Manager for Infinity Ward, is constantly berated with negative feedback and personal attacks by some players online. Williams has made it abundantly clear that any feedback coupled with insults or attacks gets blocked, and has shut down users who think she should get used to receiving abuse in her position. https://twitter.com/ashtonisVULCAN/status/1194258900251316224 https://twitter.com/ashtonisVULCAN/status/1194259381715517440 Modern Warfare is not a perfect game, and many members of the community at casual and professional levels believe there are still some glaring issues that need to be resolved. But the community also agrees that people who engage in deplorable behavior like this aren’t real fans, and need to remind themselves that developers are people first and foremost.

  • Modern Warfare director responds to claims about censoring the campaign – Dexerto

Modern Warfare director responds to claims about censoring the campaign Call of DutyCall of Duty: Modern Warfare‘s narrative director has responded to suggestions that Infinity Ward have caved in to media pressure already, following reports that the developer was removing lines of dialogue from the campaign. On June 11, Kotaku reported that, according to a developer at a private E3 showcase of Modern Warfare, a line which was deemed too “discomforting” would be removed from the final product. The particular line is delivered by a Russian soldier, who apparently considers handing over a young girl he has captured to his commanding officer, because he “likes the young ones”. Kotaku were apparently told that this line would be cut from the game, as it already takes place in “a harrowing scene even without the implication of sexual pedophilic peril.” News that Infinity Ward were removing even a single line of dialogue did not sit well with fans, though, who feared that the developer may have been toning down the more adult themes to avoid criticism and controversy. Narrative Director Taylor Kurosaki has dismissed this suggestion, however, stating plainly: “We never would (censor the game). Those are rumors. Not true.” In another response, Kurosaki explained that although changes will be made between now and launch, these are not moves to appease critics or avoid controversy, but only to further their “vision” of the game, from a purely creative standpoint. This isn’t a thing. Every medium- film, tv, games, art, iterates as they go, making the final product better. All we are doing is refining OUR vision. — Taylor Kurosaki (@taylorkurosaki) June 13, 2019 YouTubers and press who saw the game early at Infinity Ward’s studios all said that the two missions they were shown were more violent and visceral than anything they’d seen in CoD before. The game also draws inspiration from Modern Warfare 2’s ‘No Russian’ mission, undoubtedly the most controversial level in the series’ history, where the player is put in the shoes of a mass murderer, killing countless innocent civilians in a Moscow airport. We will have to wait until October 25, when the new Modern Warfare releases, to see if this particular line of dialogue does in fact make the final cut, and if Infinity Ward have toned things down in other areas too. For now, Kurosaki is defiant that these are nothing more than rumors, and false ones at that.

  • Modern Warfare devs share new hints about when League Play will be added – Dexerto

Modern Warfare devs share new hints about when League Play will be added GameInformerCall of Duty developers Infinity Ward have finally given players some hints as to when League Play will be available in Modern Warfare. With the release of the highly-anticipated Modern Warfare title less than two months away, players are getting to learn more and more about Call of Duty’s 2019 installment. One topic that has started to come up more frequently is League Play – the ranked branch of Multiplayer that features the same official competitive ruleset used at esport events. League Play was brought up when a couple of developers from Infinity Ward sat through a Q/A session with GameInformer recently. “Will ranked play be available at launch?” asked one fan through an online submission. At this point, the developers looked a bit unsure as they gave an answer that was neither here nor there at first. “I don’t know about that one,” he said. “That’s something that’s really important to us, and we’re working on, but as we’re finishing up the game, we’re figuring out what’s on it and what’s not.” Read More: MW devs suggests esports made CoD less fun – Then came perhaps the most telling portion of their response: “We have a pretty aggressive post-launch plan. So we have a bunch of pieces we can play with, but we don’t know what’s going to be on it yet.” Discussion begins at 26:18 mark for mobile users While Infinity Ward’s answer wasn’t all too revealing, many have interpreted them bringing up the “post-launch plan” as a bad sign for League Play’s chances of being in the game right from the start. That would obviously be disconcerting and frustrating for players, who had to wait five months after the release of Black Ops 4 for Treyarch to finally add the ranked mode. That said, no one knows anything right now for sure, so there’s always the chance that Infinity Ward may end up having a pleasant surprise for competitive players when Modern Warfare hits shelves on October 25, 2019.

  • Modern Warfare devs reveal Warzone fixes coming in Season 5 update – Dexerto

Modern Warfare devs reveal Warzone fixes coming in Season 5 update Activision[jwplayer br5AuoVJ] Infinity Ward has revealed a new slew of bug fixes coming to Call of Duty: Warzone in the next major update, which is expected to be at the launch of Season 5. Ever since the launch of both Modern Warfare and Warzone, Infinity Ward has done a relatively decent job at addressing and fixing bugs found in both games. The developer communicates on a regular basis about what its fixing and when the bugs themselves are fixed thanks to its public Trello board. While most bugs associated with Warzone, right now, seem to be on the more cosmetic side of things and not considered “game-breaking,” but there are still problems that need to be addressed, some which can influence and affect the game in a variety of ways. Recently, however, IW have confirmed that a few bugs associated with Warzone have been fixed internally and will hit all platforms in a future update. These include: A bug that caused a player’s physics to be influenced by a helicopter if they had their parachute open while riding it. – A random ammo glitch for which the details haven’t yet been provided. – In addition, Infinity Ward also announced that a slew of different bugs, this time for multiplayer, have also been fixed and will be implemented soon. A bug causing the Precision Airstrike killstreak to not usable even if the player earned one. – A bug causing the screen to tear to on newer maps. – A visual problem associated with the eyes on Price’s character model. – A collision bug on the map Promenade. – A hitbox bug while playing a Headshots Only custom game. – Exploits on the map Piccadilly. – A bug stopping players from customizing the default scope on the Rytec AMR. – The RPK barrel appearing broken on certain weapons – A bug causing Officer Challenges to appear under the label Elder Challenges. – As previously mentioned, none of these are incredibly serious bugs that need immediate fixing. That being said, it is nice to see the developer is still listening to the community, even if it is over smaller issues. It must be noted that, technically, IW did not confirm exactly when these fixes will be applied to the game, but the likeliest is with the Season 5 launch update, which is expected to be full of new content and major changes. Season 5 is set to kick off on Wednesday, August 5 for all platforms.

  • Modern Warfare devs reveal upcoming changes – Riot Shields, killfeed, more – Dexerto

Modern Warfare devs reveal upcoming changes – Riot Shields, killfeed, more Infinity Ward developers Joe Cecot and Ashton Williams have revealed a number of Modern Warfare features they are working on adjusting, going into upcoming patches. Since Modern Warfare’s release on October 25, fans have quickly identified a number of aspects they want adjusting. These include skill-based matchmaking, dead silence as a field upgrade, and the absence of prestiging. On November 25, Joe Cecot and Ashton Williams, Co-Design Director of Multiplayer and Senior Communications Manager respectively, confirmed a number of changes they are working on ahead of upcoming Modern Warfare updates. Arguably the most important changes revealed were those to Riot Shields, and the game’s obituary – commonly known as the kill feed. Riot Shields are fairly common in Infinity Ward games, but many players feel they are overpowered in Modern Warfare; offering too much cover and not enough opportunity for enemies to land their shots. Joe Cecot confirmed that nerfs are on their way, particularly relating to their ability to protect players from explosives. Many players have noticed that Riot Shields make players invulnerable to the game’s semtex grenades. https://twitter.com/JoeCecot/status/1199179135085465600?s=20 Also, Cecot responded to another Twitter user to confirm that kill feed adjustments are on their way, but may not be completed quickly enough to make the next patch. Some community members have complained that the kill feed sometimes goes by too quickly, or glitches and fades before it should do. Changes have already been made to the kill feed, removing messages about players ranking up and avenging teammates. This was removed to stop breaking up the kill feed and preventing players hitting feeds. https://twitter.com/JoeCecot/status/1199229255114059776?s=20 Other bugs were also confirmed as being investigated. Ashton Williams confirmed that they are investigating glitches in Gunfight mode, which registers matches as losses even before they have been played. This has been particularly pertinent in Modern Warfare of late, given the 10k 2v2 Gunfight tournament. https://twitter.com/ashtonisVULCAN/status/1199175132356345858?s=20 She also confirmed they are investigating a glitch which is preventing players from being able to bypass the main menu after completing the latest update. Some players have reported being stuck in a cycle at the main menu, constantly being told that “Game Update Successful”. https://twitter.com/ashtonisVULCAN/status/1199168480789925888?s=20 The final areas they confirmed to be investigated are the volume of certain killstreaks – namely the VTOL Jet and the Precision Airstrike, as well as minor glitches regarding challenges not tracking correctly. Fans will be pleased to see the changes coming, particularly to Riot Shields and the kill feed. The absence of adjustments to SBMM and Dead Silence are likely to strike a chord however, as they are two of the community’s biggest demands. However, just because they are not being looked at currently, does not mean we won’t see changes in the near future.

  • Modern Warfare devs reveal details on unreleased ‘Halo Killer’ – Dexerto

Modern Warfare devs reveal details on unreleased ‘Halo Killer’ Infinity Ward/BungieInfinity Ward, the developers behind the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series, have revealed new details on their unreleased project designed to be a ‘Halo Killer.’ Prior to beginning work on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the devs were split into two teams each focused on two completely different projects. One was a World War 2 game and the other was a sci-fi shooter. Speaking with Game Informer, Multiplayer Design Director Geoff Smith said this sci-fi game was intended to compete directly with Microsoft’s Halo franchise. “All my friends were playing Halo, and I couldn’t convince them to give CoD 2 a try,” Smith said, noting that the team was proud of its work on the game. “I was like, ‘Well, you’re this really cool spaceman who’s shooting stuff. It’s really hard for me to convince them to be cool with, like, a wooden gun with, like, a pot on your head.’” With Halo being such a dominant title and leaving its mark on the FPS landscape, Infinity Ward wanted to challenge it. “We didn’t know if we were going to be able to do a modern game… It was a moment where we really wanted to take down Halo really bad, and we wanted to create a Halo killer. Part of the studio went off and was working on another game to do that,” studio art director Joel Emslie said. While some of the team was working on the World War 2 version of Call of Duty 4, the rest started designing a ‘Halo Killer’ prototype. However, splitting the team ended up being a bad decision. “The whole Infinity Ward experience is what we make is the sum of the parts, like all the components work together,” Emslie explained. “When you had components missing, it threw the whole thing off balance, and that’s why it was realized pretty quickly, thank God, and they brought everybody back together, and then we dug into Modern Warfare.” With the team back together, Modern Warfare was born and the FPS landscape would once again be altered. “It was only really when we went to modern that you felt cool,” Smith said. “I think there’s a little something there where you feel cool playing, like you kind of put yourself in the situation.” Infinity Ward wasn’t the only team trying to beat out Halo. The PlayStation exclusive Killzone had been dubbed a ‘Halo Killer’, but never saw much success in competing against Master Chief. It’s crazy to think about an alternate history were Infinity Ward put their resources into a ‘Halo Killer’ instead of Modern Warfare. In a way though, the team did end up killing Halo, as Modern Warfare would go on to out-sell Halo 3. Modern Warfare will make its long-awaited return when it’s released on October, 25, 2019.

  • Modern Warfare devs respond to overpowered slide-cancel movement exploit – Dexerto

Modern Warfare devs respond to overpowered slide-cancel movement exploit A lot of Call of Duty players have been complaining about the broken slide canceling movement in Modern Warfare and developers Infinity Ward have finally offered some news regarding the exploit. Every year, when a new Call of Duty game gets released, one of the first things players do is look for any exploits or overpowered mechanics that can give them an advantage. In Modern Warfare, the slide-canceling movement technique allows players to slide but end their movement just in time to avoid the small recovery phase at the end. Thus, instead of that slight delay, they can instantly come out of the slide aiming down sights and catch players off guard. While this exploit has probably been in the game since day one, it’s gotten a lot more attention in recent weeks due to several high-profile pro players discussing it on Twitter and making videos on how to do it, which has led to an increase in player complaints. Infinity Ward’s response to slide-canceling On January 10, as part of their first Modern Warfare Community Update, Infinity Ward unveiled their new Trello page to better communicate with players about what bugs, glitches, and issues were being looked into. Right away, slide-cancel was added to the tracker and marked as “Fixed in a future update,” which means that there is a fix in place and it will be rolled out in one of the upcoming patches. Now that Infinity Ward have confirmed that they’re not only investigating slide-canceling but have found a fix for it, the only question that remains is when will it be implemented in the game. According to one user on Reddit, this process may take longer than players realize, despite the fact that it’s marked in green. “Just because you see something green doesn’t mean that it will immediately get pushed into the update,” the Redditer wrote. “Depending on the type of patch required, it can be fixed either through a game playlist update, or the game itself needs to be patched.” Comment byu/TheRealPdGaming from discussion inCoDCompetitive Whether this user’s comment is correct or not, the timing of when this fix will be implemented does end up being at the discretion of Infinity Ward and publishers Activision, who undoubtedly play a role in getting updates pushed through. For now, players will have to endure slide-canceling for a bit longer, but at least everyone can rest assured that the exploit will likely get fixed sooner rather than later.

  • Modern Warfare devs respond to issues with matchmaking latency – Dexerto

Modern Warfare devs respond to issues with matchmaking latency Modern Warfare developers Infinity Ward have responded to complaints about the game’s matchmaking system, after it appeared that players with much lower latency were placed against those with worse connections. Matchmaking has been a hot topic amongst the Call of Duty community, with many believing that Infinity Ward have included skill-based matchmaking in the game – much to the frustration of many players who believe it makes the game worse. For some though, the biggest problem they encounter when joining matches is the connection to other players, as Reddit user Lolsrofl revealed on December 9 when they posted an image of a lobby they found themselves in. In the images, Lolsrofl finds themself in a team where the lowest latency, which is how long it takes data to reach you from the online game is 123ms, with many sitting around the 130ms mark, and the player themselves on 205ms. For the other team, however, four players have less than 20ms of latency, while the other two sit at 90ms and 133ms respectively, a stark difference and a clear advantage for the opposing team. Don’t expect to see these issues remain in the game for too long though, as Infinity Ward’s Aston ‘VULCUN’ Williams commented that it had been “due to a bug in the patch system,” which saw players who didn’t properly download the latest patch were not being matchmade with the large player base, leading to smaller pools of players and lobbies like this. The good news is that Infinity Ward are not only aware of the issue, but are actively rolling out a fix to address it, alongside some tweaks to their patching system that should stop instances like this from reoccurring in the future. Unfortunately, the developers didn’t confirm when this process would be completed, but with the fix already rolling it, it seems like it shouldn’t be long before the problem is addressed completely, and lobbies like this are a thing of the past.
