Modern Warfare devs respond to game-breaking Regiment name color exploit ShawnJ Gaming/Vermat99Modern Warfare developers Infinity Ward have responded to multiple complaints about a new, game-breaking exploit that allows Call of Duty players to change the color of their Regiment clan tags and nameplates in-game. Regiments are similar to the old Call of Duty clans – they’re a way to group up with friends or random people you meet and want to play with. Over the last few days though, somehow players discovered a way to alter the color of their regiment tags and names during matches, leading to widespread confusion. Credit to xD_amp on Reddit for the clip: While the difference may seem purely cosmetic, it’s actually caused a lot of frustration among the player-base because it’s hard to separate teammates from enemies. By changing your name to blue, for example, enemies can think you’re a friendly and not shoot, giving you a clear advantage. In some cases, players have even reported that they’re losing aim assist when firing at an enemy with a different colored nameplate. In Finals of a GB against 3 kids using the blue clan tag and the admin “”has no rule against it”” so I’ll have 0 auto aim. lmao GB is so awful — Reed (@iReedr) February 14, 2020 Considering how big of an issue this has quickly become, it’s no surprise that Infinity Ward almost immediately issued a response. IW’s Paul Haile had this to say on Reddit: “This is a bug, Colorized names is not intended to be something players can do.We are doing a pass now to fix regiments that have offending tags set up causing their names to be colorized.” “We are also implementing additional protections against the creation of regiments that have invalid characters in their tag,” he added. “This should be cleaned up soon – feel free to report players with colorized names and we will take a look.” Players using the exploit can create a new regiment and use the exploit to change their name color, which they can then enable in-game by changing their tag to their Regiment tag. There are eight colors to choose from, but the most game-breaking are red and blue, which can make telling enemies and allies apart difficult, and black, which can be difficult to see during a match. Besides those, there are also colors like gold, neon green, and hot pink, which are less severe but can still be confusing when you’re in a game. As of February 14, this exploit was still in the game, so there’s no telling when it’ll actually get fixed. Infinity Ward have added it to the official Modern Warfare Trello and labeled it as “in progress,” so it’s still under investigation. As always, we will continue to bring you the latest on this issue as more information becomes available.

Modern Warfare devs respond to complaints about annoying player collision – Dexerto
Modern Warfare devs respond to complaints about annoying player collision Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players have been complaining about a noticeable increase in teammate body-blocking, and now developers Infinity Ward have issued a response. Player collisions, more commonly referred to as body-blocking, has been one of the more frustrating things in many Call of Duty titles over the years. Running into your own teammates can throw off your timing when you’re rushing to get to a power position. Also, if you’re engaged in a gunfight with a teammate close by, them bumping into you will often move your character’s body and cause you to miss shots and possibly even die. Up until now, teammate collisions haven’t been a huge topic of contention, probably because players have had other things to complain about. However, after an update released on December 31, Infinity Ward appeared to have secretly added a new player collision mechanic that made bumping into teammates a much more serious issue. In fact, these collisions are now happening a lot more than before, so players are understandably getting annoyed. “Are you going to revert the player collision changes?” one Reddit user asked. Another frustrated user pitched in with his two cents on the topic: “Pretty sure I could speak for everyone playing the game right now – can you not just remove the changes and revert them to the previous state, like applying a backup file to our clients, since this collision issue is a hotspot of frustration?” Infinity Ward respond to player collision complaints Joel Emslie, Infinity Ward’s Art Director and one of the lead developers of Modern Warfare, replied to these complaints on Reddit and revealed that they were “definitely” looking into it. “We are definitely looking into that,” he wrote. “I’m not sure if the fix is in flight or still being worked on.” As the long Reddit post above suggests, this response is both good and bad news as far as players are concerned. While it does confirm that a fix to player collision is in the works, it doesn’t provide any specific timetable for when it’ll be implemented. This means players will have to deal with the increased rate of body-blocking for now, even if it means sometimes being thrown off and even dying because of it.

Modern Warfare devs respond to players asking for Weapon Mastery Cards – Dexerto
Modern Warfare devs respond to players asking for Weapon Mastery Cards New personalized unlocks could be coming to Modern Warfare in the near future after fans requested an old feature make a return to the Infinity Ward title. Since the launch of Season One on December 3, the avid Modern Warfare player-base has been treated to a number of new cosmetic and vanity items. From purchasable operator skins to unlockable weapon camouflages and more, Infinity Ward has drip-fed personalized content over the past few weeks. However, dedicated players have been clamoring for one particular feature to make a return after years of being absent in the franchise. Following one particular Reddit post that gained traction, developers responded and shed light on the potential for Weapon Mastery Cards to be implemented in the future. Calling Cards allow players to customize their profile and highlight various accomplishments in Modern Warfare. Throughout the history of the series, certain challenges have stood above others and proven to be the rarest of unlocks. A good portion of Calling Cards today however, are purchased through a number of downloadable content packs, eliminating the chance for unique challenges to accompany the fresh additions. Highlighting the lack of Mastery-tier Calling Cards in the latest iteration, the community has called for the feature’s return. Serving as the ultimate test for specific weapon types, equipment, and killstreaks alike, these particular unlocks stood out from the noise with skulls sat at the edges of a golden streak. Read More: IW respond to bizarre Finishing Move in MW – After a January 7 Reddit post gained traction, Infinity Ward responded to the requests and hinted that the return of such elite personalization might not be too far off in Modern Warfare. “Looking into this,” Infinity Ward artist Joel ‘artpeasant’ Emslie initially responded to the thread before divulging more information. Indicating that it’s an aspect the developers themselves want to revitalize for the latest release. “In visual development now,” he then followed up a week later on January 13, clraifying his earlier comments and confirming that Weapon Mastery Calling Cards will indeed be making a return in the near future. The next step in development is “art production. Then hooked up and scripted. Then testing. Certified. Then pushed out in a near-future update,” Emslie outlined. With a lot of work yet to be done, he addressed that while there’s “no ETA” at this point in time, developers at Infinity Ward are indeed making progress and “working on them now.” Perhaps development on these new Calling Cards might be wrapped up in time for Season Two. There’s no telling quite when Modern Warfare will rollover into the next cycle of content, but with a majority of maps and modes now available, we’re edging closer to the second major content drop.

Modern Warfare devs respond to minimap controversy during Beta – Dexerto
Modern Warfare devs respond to minimap controversy during Beta Call of Duty community. CoD multiplayer has long been renowned for its active mini-map, allowing players to see where enemies and allies are and giving them an ever-present view of where they are on the map. When Infinity Ward announced several weeks ago that Modern Warfare multiplayer would not feature a mini map, players didn’t know what to think. But that confusion turned to pure outrage when they got to try the beta on September 12. In fact, the community became so vocal with their frustration, that not even 12 hours after the beta kicked off, the developers released a post addressing the controversy, as part of their effort to try and calm everyone down. “Okay, let’s talk about minimap. We hear you loud and clear,” communications manager Ashton Williams said in the post on Reddit. “Along with your feedback and the data we’re continuously collecting, we’ll be experimenting internally with a few different options and will keep you updated if we make any changes that you might see during the Beta,” she continued. “This is an ongoing conversation with all of you, so again, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this topic and we’ll update you again when we have more information to share.” While the minimap controversy was a major talking point coming out of the first day, Williams also revealed in her update post that the developers were taking a look at a number of other features, including updating spawn points, and patching minor graphical bugs. Players had encountered a number of connectivity issues in the beta, including problems partying up with teammates and connecting online or to their PSNID. They also faced issues with enemy footstep noises, incorrect calling cards, and visual bugs surrounding level caps. The Infinity Ward communications manager confirmed the developers had made notes of all of these ongoing problems, and were looking to provide solutions to them as the beta continues. The Modern Warfare closed beta is set to run for another two days, before entering an open access period on PlayStation 4 from September 14-16.

Modern Warfare devs respond as frustrating AK-47 bug makes game crash – Dexerto
Modern Warfare devs respond as frustrating AK-47 bug makes game crash Infinity Ward, the developers behind the latest installment in the legendary Call of Duty franchise Modern Warfare, have addressed complaints from fans about a strange issue that causes using the AK-47 to crash the game. Modern Warfare officially entered its first season back on Tuesday, December 3, with a brand-new update for the game introducing the Battle Pass, the return of Crash as a map, and new cosmetics for players to get their hands on. Unfortunately for fans, the update seems to have brought an unfortunate glitch that is crashing games, although Infinity Ward have now addressed this issue. The bug involves one of Call of Duty’s most legendary weapons, the AK-47. The gun has appeared in some form or another for most of the franchise’s 16-year existence, and with the AK available in 2019’s Modern Warfare, it’s no surprise that many are trying to use it. A number of Twitter users sent messages to Ashton ‘VULCAN’ Williams, begging for a hotfix for the weapon, which crashes players’ games when they use it in the game. “If no fix is found disable the AK,” Twitter’s mikeasaurusflex wrote, “or the attachments that are the culprits please!” The good news is that a fix is on the way, with Williams — who is the Senior Communications Manager at Infinity Ward — revealing that the developers “have a fix already,” and that it should be released in the game’s next update. We have a fix already – should have it out in our next patch. — Ashton Williams (@ashtonisVULCAN) December 6, 2019 It’s common for issues to creep up when major updates are launched, as with so much new content added, it can be difficult to anticipate how everything will work together until it’s in the hands of players, who can quickly find glitches that the developers can then fix. While glitches are frustrating, there are some other problems players have with the game that can’t be fixed in a simple hotfix, such as complaints with maps or the frustrations players have with the alleged introduction of skill-based matchmaking.

Modern Warfare devs release patch to fix unplayable CDL playlist – Dexerto
Modern Warfare devs release patch to fix unplayable CDL playlist Infinity WardInfinity Ward have released a patch to fix Modern Warfare’s unplayable CDL playlist, following weeks of issues for players trying to play the professional mode filter. One major complaint players have had with Modern Warfare’s multiplayer is the absence of a Ranked Mode, in the vein of Black Ops II’s League Play. This has seen SBMM implemented into Modern Warfare public matches, a change that has proved widely unpopular. However, to alleviate some of the player demands, Infinity Ward added a CDL Playlist filter to multiplayer back in February. This enabled players to play CDL game modes on CDL maps, but it does not include its own ranking system as many fans had hoped. However, while playing the game mode in June, some players noticed bizarre issues, like spawning in mid-air above the map. Also, players were spawning into Free-For-All matches which, needless to say, are not a CDL game mode. Thankfully, it appears that Infinity Ward have fixed the issues. “A small patch is deploying now across all platforms,” they tweeted, “that fixes two issues we’ve been tracking in Modern Warfare: Thank you for your reports and feedback! Fix for the CDL playlist not functioning as intended”. The news was generally well received, with many fans excited to hop back in without any major issues plaguing their games. A small patch is deploying now across all platforms that fixes two issues we’ve been tracking in #ModernWarfare: Thank you for your reports and feedback! – Fix for the Realism Moshpit playlist not rotating modes – Fix for the CDL playlist not functioning as intended— Infinity Ward (@InfinityWard) July 2, 2020 However, some issues remained. Austin ‘SlasheR’ Liddicoat, AR for OpTic Gaming Los Angeles, said: “Thats great but can I please…. PLEASE get a patch to the 60 hz GB servers so I can practice the spawns that my matches are on?” Recent updates have sought to improve the online standards of play for CDL matches, but players have not been able to recreate these conditions when playing in general playlists on multiplayer. Thats great but can I please…. PLEASE get a patch to the 60 hz GB servers so I can practice the spawns that my matches are on? — Austin Liddicoat (@SlasheR_AL) July 2, 2020 Whether such changes are made in a future update remains to be seen, but some pro players have criticized Infinity Ward’s commitment (or lack thereof) to Modern Warfare’s competitive environment. For now, players of all calibre will have to make do with the fixes to the CDL playlist.

Modern Warfare devs provide update on major ‘stat reset’ bug – Dexerto
Modern Warfare devs provide update on major ‘stat reset’ bug Infinity WardModern Warfare developers Infinity Ward have provided an update regarding the stat resist bug that appeared in-game following the latest update for the popular first-person shooter. The game received a major update on January 22 which introduced a new weapon in the form of the Crossbow, plus a host of gun balancing changes designed to improve the game. Unfortunately, the patch also brought a major problem that has frustrated and concerned players, which asks players to reset their stats in order to play the game once they’ve downloaded the update. With many concerned that they would lose all the ranks and stats they’ve built up since its release in October, Infinity Ward has moved quickly to provide additional information in hopes of putting to rest any fears. In a blog post on the Infinity Ward website, the developers confirmed that they had already issued a fix to address this issue, and explained what would happen to anyone who was affected by this glitch. “A backend fix has already been deployed across all platforms,” it reads. “You won’t see a download prompt or see anything pop-up on screen to notify you a fix is available.” For those who were presented with the prompt and did not click “Yes” and instead closed the game, their stats are still intact and can play as usual. For those who did select the option to reset, everything related to the combat record, leaderboards, custom classes, and Operators were rest, but nothing related to progression was lost. Rank, XP, Battle Pass and weapon, progression, unlocks, and purchases are all secure. A fix for those who have lost their stats is actively being worked on, but Infinity Ward currently does not have a date that fans can expect to see it go live. Players can still play as normal, and progression will still track, but the developers warned players that they may have to roll back stats to the state they were in prior to the January 22 update when fixing it. This isn’t the only problem the team behind Modern Warfare are dealing with, with the game’s ruleset for the upcoming Call of Duty League also not working, just days before the Launch Weekend event kicks off.

Modern Warfare devs make big change to how Smokes & Thermal scopes work – Dexerto
Modern Warfare devs make big change to how Smokes & Thermal scopes work Call of Duty developers have confirmed that a fundamental change has been made to how Smoke Grenades and Thermal optics work in Modern Warfare. Smokes have always maintained their significance in Call of Duty multiplayer, especially in competitive play, as they offer players a tactical advantage when used correctly. Players often use them in combination with a Thermal scope on their weapon, first creating cover with the grenade then using the sight to see through it and shoot at unsuspecting enemies. However, when it comes to the newly released Modern Warfare title, it appears that longtime concept will be thrown by the wayside, as Thermal sights can no longer be used to see through smokes. Read More: All multiplayer modes in Modern Warfare – Legendary Call of Duty pro Damon ‘Karma’ Barlow brought this change to everyone’s attention on Twitter by asking: “Can you not see people through smokes with Thermal, or did I just not see anyone?” He was replied to by David Mickner, a multiplayer designer at Infinity Ward, who confirmed that it was intentionally done and not the result of a bug. “This was an intentional change made by the team as a move towards a more realistic approach,” he replied. “This is not a bug.” This was an intentional change made by the team as a move towards a more realistic approach. This is not a bug. — David Mickner (@DavidMickner) October 25, 2019 While this change does limit the offensive capabilities of Smokes, since they can’t be used to set up strategies involving the Thermal sight, it does reinforce the grenade’s defensive potential. Now, players can rest more assured when throwing Smokes in and around objectives, knowing they can’t be sniped by someone who has a weapon that can see through the haze. As for the Thermal scope, this really only has a negative effect on its viability, since really the optic’s most important purpose of usage has now been taken away. Predictably, this change has drawn the ire of some players, and they expressed their confusion and frustration on social media. However, Infinity Warfare have been consistent with the philosophy, and have repeatedly emphasized that realism is a big aspect of what they had in mind when developing Modern Warfare. For example, every single weapon in the game looks, feels, sounds, and fires the same way it would in real life, even down to the sound that the empty bullet casings make when they hit the floor. That taken into account, it’s not really surprising that they’ve made some adjustments to regular gameplay features to make the overall experience feel more authentic.

Modern Warfare devs hint at new rewards for max rank players – Dexerto
Modern Warfare devs hint at new rewards for max rank players ActivisionModern Warfare developer Joe Cecot has hinted on Twitter that there may be new rewards coming to players who have reached the maximum rank in multiplayer. This year, Infinity Ward decided to change the leveling up process in Call of Duty, which has traditionally seen players rank up to a certain level before ‘prestiging’ and leveling up again. Most games had between 10 and 20 prestige ranks, with some, such as Black Ops 3, offering extra levels above max prestige. In Modern Warfare, however, players simply reach level 55 before earning an ‘officer rank’, with 100 extra officer ranks to be earned. This means that, technically, the max level is 155 – but max rank players are a little peeved that they don’t earn any rewards as a result. Responding to a tweet on December 30, co-design director of multiplayer Cecot was asked whether players “can earn a unique icon when we hit max level?” Cecot said: “I definitely think there are improvements we can make in this area,” implying that this is something they have been and will continue to actively consider, especially with players expressing the concern that they have “nothing to grind for.” In past iterations of the franchise, players will earn certain icon or emblem when they level up and hit certain prestiges, and that is evidently something players are concerned about missing out on in Modern Warfare. https://twitter.com/JoeCecot/status/1211853966478319616 Interestingly, Infinity Ward’s Art Director, who worked on Modern Warfare, then responded to Cecot’s tweet, simply saying “you have my axe,” essentially implying that they have his support and permission to get to work on something. It would definitely be beneficial to have some kind of icon or emblem for max rank players to show off: after all, when you enter the lobby, you want people to know just how good you are at the game, and this is a step in the right direction. Though it’s not confirmed that anything will be added, a public comment such as this usually indicates that there are plans in the works and players should probably expect a max rank icon sooner rather than later.

Modern Warfare devs fix Dead Silence following pro player pressure – Dexerto
Modern Warfare devs fix Dead Silence following pro player pressure Infinity Ward have dropped an update for Modern Warfarer after a number of Call of Duty professionals weighed in on the game’s lack of Dead Silence. After weeks of waiting, Call of Duty’s newest title, Modern Warfare, was finally released on October 25. The first game in the popular sub-series for almost a decade was, unsurprisingly, highly-anticipated, but it has run into some problems on the competitive side of things. Some players have complained about the map design, while Seth ‘Scump’ Abner pointed out that there is far more limited mobility compared to other Call of Duty titles. Yet, that’s not all, as players have rallied around needing a change to the current state of Dead Silence – with many claiming that it didn’t work as intended compared to recent games. Dead Silence, of course, has been a much-needed perk in game modes like Search and Destroy, but has become a field upgrade in Modern Warfare – but was seemingly broken upon the game’s launch. OpTic Gaming’s Kenny ‘Kenny’ Williams noted that he felt like using Dead Silence was purely to run faster instead of being able to move quietly. I’m popping Dead Silence just to run faster, at least that’s how it feels. — :flag-ph:Kenny (@Kuavo) October 27, 2019 Some, like New York Subliners Doug ‘Censor’ Martin pointed out that it should go back to being a perk and provide complete cover from making a sound while moving. His point was backed up by teammate Dillon ‘Attach’ Price and former world champion Christopher ‘Parasite’ Duarte – who both wanted it changed back to a perk – as well as making a few other slight changes to the game. Please add Dead Silence into a perk 2 slot and make it 100% silent @InfinityWard — Censor (@Censor) October 27, 2019 Things MW needs to become a better game. – Dead silence as a perk – Enemies show up on Mini map in pubs – Trophy system needs to be equipment – Thermals should be able to see people through smoke— NYSL Attach (@Attach) October 27, 2019 Other players, though, took their thoughts a step further than just pointing out what they believed needs to be changed. OpTic’s Austin ‘SlasheR’ Liddicoat, claimed the respawn game types would “suffer” without the addition of Dead Silence as a perk, with Trei ‘Zer0’ Morris backing that point up. they need to do anything they can to make respawn the best it can be. dead silence is needed as a perk — NYSL (treiboi carti) (@TreiZer0) October 28, 2019 Yet, it wasn’t all completely serious recommendations for changes, as some players took the chance to make some lighter jokes. Chicago CoD’s Scump tweeted that the game has been without the perk altogether. NRG co-owner Hector ‘HECZ’ Rodriguez also made a joke about being able to hear everything without the Dead Silence ability. Do you hear that? Me too, because there’s no Dead Silence. — Hector Rodriguez (@H3CZ) October 27, 2019 Calls from both the competitive community and casual players saw Infinity Ward spring into action, however, revealing that a fix was in the works on October 27. While they claimed it wouldn’t be an instant fix, the developers dropped an update less than a day later, with Dead Silence now providing complete cover for footsteps. October 28 title update patch notes Following this Dead Silence fix, Infinity Ward pushed out a very minor title update that addressed some of the crashing issues and fixed a bug in the Special Ops mode. Here are the official patch notes, as provided on Reddit: We’ve done work on the backend to help with stability and prevent crashes across all platforms. If you experience a crash, please let us know – Fix for a Special Ops Achievement that was not unlocking after completing all missions –

Modern Warfare devs confirm Season 1 extension and new weapon coming – Dexerto
Modern Warfare devs confirm Season 1 extension and new weapon coming ActivisionModern Warfare developers Infinity Ward have confirmed that they will be extending Season One of the hit FPS title and bringing a new weapon to the game. Modern Warfare was released in October 2019, and Season One began in December, a couple of months later. It brought with it revamped classic maps Crash, Vacant and Shipment, various other multiplayer modes and two new weapons. The original end date for Season One was scheduled to be January 28, but Infinity Ward have now revealed that they will be kicking off Season Two at a later date. In a blog post published on January 15, Infinity Ward shared that a whole host of new challenges, as well as a new weapon, will be introduced to the game. The blog post said: “Over the next few weeks, a host of new items and challenges will arrive, including an in-game Challenge to earn the new Crossbow weapon, more remixed game modes, new playlists, and more in the Store to discover. To make room for all that activity, we are making a one-time extension of Season One – it’s now ending on February 11.” It also confirmed that during this time, there will be “2XP, 2X Weapon XP and 2X Tier Progression,” to help players achieve max rank and max level of their weapons before heading in to the new season. The community reaction was somewhat mixed, as is to be expected with an announcement such as this. Some players believed it a waste of time, while others thanked IW for giving them more time to rank up. ‘Jaycall23’ on Twitter said called the decision “pathetic,” citing the fact that any decent player is already the top level. Why …. Any decent player is 155 already and we just have to waste more time. Good grief IW studio has become a complete Joke … Pathetic — Jason Collins (@jaycall23) January 15, 2020 Meanwhile, ‘The Alex’ commended the developers on their “awesome work.” THANK YOU! I’m only halfway done the Tiers, they seem to take forever and I was becoming disheartened that I wouldn’t be able to finish. This should give me the means to git-r-done! Much appreciated, Infinity Ward. Keep up the awesome work. pic.twitter.com/5LTDDI4hJ4 — The Alex (@Alex_Everatt) January 16, 2020 It has been rumored for a while that the Crossbow will be coming to Modern Warfare, and it seems the time has finally come. With all-new maps, modes, and weapons on the way, players will have to be a little more patient and wait a couple of weeks before they get to enhance their Modern Warfare experience.

Modern Warfare devs confirm fix for frustrating player collision issue – Dexerto
Modern Warfare devs confirm fix for frustrating player collision issue Infinity WardInfinity Ward has confirmed that there is a fix coming for Modern Warfare’s frustrating player collision issues, meaning it won’t be long before players are no longer blocked out by teammates. Player collision issues aren’t exactly new to Call of Duty, with players known to go bouncing away from teammates. Whether you play casually or competitively, body blocking as it’s also known has been a problem for quite some time in CoD especially. Being blocked out by a teammate can throw off your timing and ability to beat someone else to a power position – putting you on the back foot in a game. However, these problems have seemingly been worse than normal in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, with players begging Infinity Ward to make some sort of change for a few weeks. Now though, it appears that their calls – and videos of accidentally being bumped up the stairs on Tavorsk District and into the waiting arms of an enemy – have been heard. In numerous posts to the Modern Warfare subreddit, users noted that the developer’s Trello board – where they confirm what bugs are being addressed and when fans can expect to see them fixed – had been updated with a confirmed change for the body blocking issue. “Fixed in a future update,” reads the tag given to the player collision issue, though it doesn’t say exactly when that fix will be rolled out. With the recent January 14 update being centered around new playlists for multiplayer and only being a few days old, it might be a little while yet before players are able to run around their favorite maps without being bumped along the way. Seeing as the conclusion of Modern Warfare’s first online season has been extended until early February, the fix could very well be rolled out as a part of the major update that also follows. We’ll just have to wait and see as to when Infinity Ward chooses to make the change.

Modern Warfare devs confirm Duos is coming to Warzone – Dexerto
Modern Warfare devs confirm Duos is coming to Warzone Infinity WardCall of Duty developers Infinity Ward have officially confirmed that a ‘Duos’ mode will be coming to Warzone in Modern Warfare, but haven’t put a date on its arrival yet. At launch, Warzone had only Trios, before solos and later quads were added. In the past, these different team-sizes would be standard in battle royale games, but that changed somewhat when Apex Legends launched. At first, Apex too only supported Trios, and it took some time before the developers (perhaps reluctantly) added duos and solos as limited-time modes. Warzone at first seemed to be following a similar plan, possibly to avoid long wait times for matches if the player base was split up too much. Related: Incredible Call of Duty comebacks that shocked everyone: But, with Warzone’s now immensely popular, accommodating one, two, three or four-player teams in different playlists should be no problem at all — and Solos, Trios and Quads are currently available for battle royale, in addition to the Plunder mode. Duos though, has been totally missing so far. Inevitably, this has led to countless fans demanding that Infinity Ward add the playlist for two-player teams, but at the time of writing, it’s still nowhere to be seen. Duos coming to Warzone Thankfully, in an interview with GamerGen, Amos Hodge, Creative Director at Raven Software (who helped develop Warzone alongside IW) said: “[We’ve] got some bugs to work out with Duos. But we’re listening to the community – if you noticed, we launched with just Trios, then we added Solos, then we added Quads, so we will get to a place where we add Duos in the future. There’s just no exact time I can give you for now, but Duos is coming.” The most likely date we can imagine for Duos to be added is probably alongside the Season 4 update. Although, since the developers still have some issues to sort out with the playlist, it might take a bit longer. Season 4 is scheduled to launch on or around June 3, so roughly one month from this interview confirming that Duos is being worked on.

Modern Warfare devs apparently reveal surprising reason for removing minimap – Dexerto
Modern Warfare devs apparently reveal surprising reason for removing minimap Infinity WardOne of the most controversial things about multiplayer reveal event on August 1, Modern Warfare will be the first Call of Duty game to not feature any kind of minimap as part of the base game. This is a major move for the franchise, as checking the map in the corner of the screen has become second nature to fans of the first-person shooter. While Infinity Ward have refrained from revealing the reason behind the tool’s removal, YouTuber XclusiveAce, who got early access to the game, has revealed what could be the reason for the minimap’s untimely demise. In a clip from XclusiveAce’s stream, he states that other players who attended the event were apparently told that the minimap was removed in the hopes of making the game easier for new players, and also provided an update on whether we could see one implemented before the game’s release. “Is there any chance that it will have a minimap when the game launches?” read XclusiveAce from his chat. “I think so.” “I just don’t understand the reasoning behind it,” Ace explained, “some people were saying that the devs had told them that the reason that they took the minimap out was to make it easier for newer and more casual players, because pubstompers are able to dominate so much with a minimap. “So they’re trying to essentially close that skill gap and nerf people down, which is effectively what it will do.” While this may be the reason, it’s worth taking this information with a pinch of salt, as Infinity Ward have yet to give an official response to the questions regarding the future of the fan favorite tool. What they have said though, is that they will listen to community feedback once players have tried the game out for themselves in the beta. Based on every indication so far though, it would appear to be unwise to expect a major switch in thoughts from the developers about the minimap, so prepare for the high chance that Modern Warfare will launch in October with no map on your screen – unless you earn a Personal Radar or UAV.

Modern Warfare devs announce major footstep audio change coming to Beta – Dexerto
Modern Warfare devs announce major footstep audio change coming to Beta Infinity Ward / PixabayCall of Duty developers Infinity Ward have announced that they will be implementing a major change to how footstep audio works in Modern Warfare, after hearing complaints during the 2v2 Gunfight Alpha. On August 22, Infinity Ward opened up the servers for the 2v2 Gunfight mode Alpha to the public, giving players their first real taste of the highly anticipated upcoming Modern Warfare title. However, as is usually the case with these pre-release game builds, the Alpha contained some issues, one of which had to do with footstep audio. Audio is obviously an integral part of the Call of Duty experience, as players will often look for footsteps or other sound cues to coordinate their gameplay strategy and tactics. Modern Warfare devs address camo glitch that makes it impossible to aim – Dexerto
Modern Warfare devs address camo glitch that makes it impossible to aim Infinity WardA terrible issue has been discovered in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare relating to camos, making it extremely difficult to find targets with weapons, and the developers have finally had their say on when it will be fixed. Infinity Ward has had to introduce fixes for a number of problems since the game was released in October 2019 and the game’s developers have got another one to deal with, in regards to one of their rarest weapon wraps. Platinum, for example, can be unlocked after achieving the gold camo for an entire weapon class depending on what gun it is. Yet, those that have put in the hard yards and earned the right to use it have been left terribly frustrated after seeing something very strange happens to the screen when using it in some windows. When appearing in a window, holding a weapon equipped with the platinum camo, players have noticed that sunlight can sometimes shine onto it so brightly that the screen is covered by a white shining light. Reddit user, cammywrightlad, decided to highlight the problem with a post on January 20, showing a video of what the bug looks like in-game and it’s fair to say that those who grinded their way to platinum will be very disappointed by their reward. “Glare on the platinum camo needs looking at, happens on most maps in most windows,” they wrote. There has been no word on when, precisely, this update will be rolled out but judging by the speed in which devs have answered the call from players, we would expect it to be right around the corner. Hopefully, this bright light problem will be pushed into the darkness sooner rather than later.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare developer teases campaign trailer release – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare developer teases campaign trailer release Infinity WardInfinity Ward Studio Narrative Director Taylor Kurosaki has dropped a major hint regarding the possible release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s campaign trailer. CoD fans have been eagerly awaiting any new information about the upcoming first-person shooter, with PS4 players getting their first opportunity to test out the 2v2 Gunfight mode in an exclusive alpha back in August. With two multiplayer betas scheduled in September, there are plenty of opportunities to try out the game’s most popular mode, but information on the Modern Warfare campaign has remained scarce, although that could all be about to change. In an exchange on Twitter, Kurosaki hinted that the trailer would be appearing online in the very near future, sending fans abuzz with excitement at the possibility of seeing what they can expect from the game’s campaign. “Story trailer?” asked Twitter use 2015CMass97, with the Studio Narrative Director responding: “Ok, sounds good.” Another user took things a step further, asking if there was any chance it would be released tonight, with Kurosaki teasing the possibility by writing: “Hold on, let me check…” While the trailer for the campaign has yet to appear, Kurosaki’s tease indicates that it isn’t far away, although he didn’t go as far as to confirm whether we will see it at some point today, or give an official release date for it. Little is currently known about the Modern Warfare campaign, although Infinity Ward have been forced to address claims about censorship in the game’s story mode, denying they were altering the dialogue before the title launches. With legendary characters like Captain Price confirmed to play roles in the mode, Call of Duty fans are chomping at the bit to see what their favorite soldiers have been doing since the conclusion of Modern Warfare 3, and with developers hinting that the trailer is on its way, there shouldn’t be too long to wait before we get our first look at the next chapter in the legendary franchise’s storyline.

Modern Warfare developer responds to more accusations of censorship – Dexerto
Modern Warfare developer responds to more accusations of censorship ActivisionInfinity Ward has addressed concerns that the campaign for Call of Duty fans across the world are chomping at the bit to get any sort of news ahead of the highly-anticipated release of Modern Warfare on October 25. Plenty of the multiplayer portion has already been shown off, but attention has since turned back to the single-player. The developers are, reportedly, set for a showcase at Gamescom in Koln, Germany in August, but plenty of questions have been asked about its graphic nature. All early details have suggested that it will be more controversial than Modern Warfare 2’s No Russian mission which saw the game banned or toned down in certain countries. Following the recent mass shootings in the United States, where video game violence has predictably come under the microscope again, fans have asked questions about whether or not Modern Warfare will be toned down. Infinity Ward Studio Narrative Director Taylor Kurosaki, again, stepped up to take those questions head-on. Responding to one fan on Twitter, who asked if the brutality has been removed, he stated: “Nope. Not right.” He doubled down on those claims when another fan asked if was necessary to tone down Modern Warfare to get a suitable rating. “Nope,” Kurosaki simply stated again. Prior to Kurosaki’s tweets, it had been revealed that part of the campaign had been removed. Back in June, Kotaku reported that at least one dialogue portion had been left on the cutting room floor. Kotaku also noted that the developers were still weighing up just how controversial to get with the single-player action – especially considering the realism aspect that Infinity Ward has already tried to sell. It’s not of the question that further parts of the story could be removed in the future, especially if further questions are asked about video games by the United States government. Until that point, though, Call of Duty fans should get Modern Warfare’s campaign in its current, seemingly controversial state.

Modern Warfare developer responds to concerns that multiplayer is too different – Dexerto
Modern Warfare developer responds to concerns that multiplayer is too different July 11 was an exciting day for the Call of Duty faithful as fans around the world were given their first sneak peek at Modern Warfare’s multiplayer gameplay in the form of the all-new ‘Gunfight’ 2 vs 2 mode. However, the developers have already found themselves responding to various concerns. The highly anticipated reveal saw popular streamers TeePee, CouRage, Syndicate, and LEQION (legion) showing off the new mode in all its glory but some players and fans felt that they were left with more questions than answers as concerns that Infinity Ward would be making Modern Warfare’s multiplayer experience “TOO different” started to rise. The Gunfight mode appeared to scrap a lot of standard CoD features, like create-a-class, the mini-map, health regeneration and more. It also added the Call of Duty: Ghosts-style leaning and a completely new ‘execution’ feature that can be used on players who leave themselves open to attack. While these new features are still very much a work-in-progress, the apparent sacrifice of so many signature aspects of a classic Call of Duty seemed to leave some long-time players of the series nonplussed. It is understandable that such fans would worry that MW’s multiplayer will be too much of a departure from what they are used to but it didn’t take long for the developers of the game to respond to some of those concerns and make it clear that traditional multiplayer will not disappear in Modern Warfare. To squash some of these worries, lead multiplayer developer at Infinity Ward, Joe Cecot, responded to a fan asking if the rest of the game (outside of Gunfight) would be more “traditional”. Cecot gave a very promising answer, stating plainly that Gunfight is “just a taste”, and there will “definitely” be more traditional gameplay featured throughout the multiplayer. While there were clearly some areas of concern for fans as they watched the Gunfight stream unfold, there were also a whole host of positives, such as much improved graphical fidelity, better weapon animations and sounds, and much more. But, no matter how good the game looks, it could all be in vain if the ‘classic CoD feel’ isn’t there and fans of the franchise feel alienated. Cecot also responded to concerns about motion blur, which appeared to be fairly prominent in the reveal to those with a trained eye. Motion blur is a controversial setting in video games, particularly first person shooters and titles that need pinpoint precision and reaction times. It is generally accepted that motion blur, while making things look ‘prettier’, is detrimental to performance and something that serious players should turn off almost immediately. Thankfully, like 2016’s Infinite Warfare, it sounds like players will have options for adjusting this in-game. Joel Emslie, Studio Art Director at Infinity Ward, also wanted to make it clear to fans that the ‘Gunfight’ reveal was displaying only one small part of the overall multiplayer experience. “I’ll say it again,” he stated. “Today’s “Gunfight” mode reveal is a very small part of a MW’s much larger core MP. Its all there and you’re going to see it on August 1st.” Ill say it again. Today’s “”Gunfight”” mode reveal is a very small part of a MW’s much larger core MP. Its all there and you’re going to see it on August 1st. pic.twitter.com/Dzkqq9Uojq — Joel Emslie (@ArtPeasant) July 11, 2019 The full reveal for the entire multiplayer “universe” will take place on August 1 – Activision announced during the Gunfight teaser. By then, we should have a much better understanding of the full breadth of the mode, with a lot more to show off. Admittedly, it is a little surprising that the full multiplayer reveal is so late in the year, cutting it close to the scheduled October 25 release date.

Modern Warfare developer explains how they balanced “realism” and gameplay – Dexerto
Modern Warfare developer explains how they balanced “realism” and gameplay Infinity WardAnCall of Duty fans a first look at gameplay from the upcoming Modern Warfare release by showing off their brand new Gunfight 2v2 mode. While it wasn’t the traditional multiplayer elements that some fans may have been hoping to see, it did give an interesting look behind the curtain. However, as the weeks draw closer to the game’s release date, some fans have been vocal in their concerns about the game going too far away from the traditional Call of Duty release. But, Infinity Ward team members have been answering their questions along the way. In a post to the Modern Warfare subreddit, developer Joel Emslie, art director at Infinity Ward, responded to a thread based around the new recoil system. As some players were left confused by the switch to a less predictable recoil, Emslie chimed in and gave some background on the inspiration behind the changes. The developer commented: “We’ve set out to make a realistic game but not destroy the gameplay. It’s not based on airsoft. It’s based on real steel.” Infinity Ward’s Studio Art Director didn’t go into any further detail with a follow-up post, but it didn’t stop other fans from praising the switch up in realism. “Yes and we greatly appreciate it. Thank you for making a new, realistic and improved COD,” responded MattFab22. Another added: “It looks like you guys are doing a great job. I haven’t been this excited for a Call Of Duty since Black Ops 2.” It’s not the first time that Emslie has attempted quashed concerns about what fans of have seen from the new game on social media. After the Gunfight showcase, he tweeted that what fans had seen was only a “very small part” of a much larger multiplayer mode and that it wouldn’t be long until everything else was covered. Ill say it again. Today’s “”Gunfight”” mode reveal is a very small part of a MW’s much larger core MP. Until then, speculation may run rampant about an increasingly difficult, yet ultra-realistic Call of Duty title until players actually get their hands on the full product.

Modern Warfare developer finally responds to ranked play demands – Dexerto
Modern Warfare developer finally responds to ranked play demands Infinity WardAn Infinity Ward developer has finally responded to Modern Warfare player’s calls for details surrounding ranked play. However, it isn’t exactly good news for hopeful fans. While Infinity Ward has been dropping new content for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare since the game launched back on October 25, players have been waiting for parts of multiplayer that haven’t been released. Many are still waiting on official details regarding a potential battle royale – which seems to be in the works, if supposed leakers are to be believed. Plenty of other players are hoping to see the introduction of ranked play. The multiplayer mode, which allows players to test themselves in a more competitive ruleset and hone their skills even further, has never been a part of an Infinity Ward developed title – though it hasn’t stopped fans begging for it with the formation of the Call of Duty League. While it has been pretty much silence from the developers when it comes to being quizzed on the subject, Infinity Ward art director Joel Emslie finally responded to a question on the Modern Warfare subreddit. “Sorry. I don’t have details on that,” he said on February 7, much to the dismay of some commenters. Comment byu/ScharlieScheen from discussion inmodernwarfare Of course, while it isn’t exactly the answer that fans will have been hoping for, the response doesn’t exactly close the door on hopes of ranked play. Also, while Emslie might have an insight into what the studio is working on in terms of new content, if Infinity Ward were ever going to release a highly-requested mode, it is pretty unlikely that they would confirm it’s existence in a buried away Reddit comment. Whether or not ranked mode will ever see the light of day in Modern Warfare still very much remains to be seen, though it may seem like hope is fading for many fans who are eager to test themselves against the very best.

Modern Warfare developer finally responds to battle royale rumors – Dexerto
Modern Warfare developer finally responds to battle royale rumors Infinity WardAn Infinity Ward developer has stated that their focus for CoD: Modern Warfare remains on multiplayer and not a battle royale, following rumors. Ever since the new Modern Warfare name was confirmed back in May, Call of Duty fans have been left wondering as to whether or not Infinity Ward would follow up on Blackout with a battle royale of their own. Despite apparent leaks around a mega separate mode, the developers have showcased numerous parts of their multiplayer. Eager fans got to witness plenty of gameplay thanks to the Multiplaye premiere on August 1, with the full set of killstreaks, brand new perks, and more informative details being revealed. Yet, the battle royale talk has been eerily quiet. However, Infinity Ward might just have quashed any hopes. Speaking to IGN, Infinity Ward’s MP Design Director Joe Cecot stated that Modern Warfare will be a “different experience” compared to previous releases. He said: “We really focused on Modern Warfare, authentic and gritty, realistic weapons, and it’s a different experience. It’s really…just about pulling back to Modern Warfare and keeping that pure.” Cecot also confirmed that the developer’s focus is with the core multiplayer experience. “[Infinity Ward are] big fans of battle royale. We’re excited for large player counts and things like that, but right now we’re really focused on core multiplayer,” he added. Will Modern Warfare have a battle royale after release? Perhaps the most impressive part about the Modern Warfare reveal was the increased lobby sizes – with the new Ground War mode having a 100-player lobby. Clearly, with that running smoothly, the technology is there to blow away the current battle royale genre with a new and improve CoD offering. Cecot continued on: “ On the technical side, we’ve had to do a ton of work on the multiplayer side to make things more efficient so we could push the player counts higher and higher and higher.” While Infinity Ward has not ruled out having a battle royale, instead opting for a no comment in the past, it does seem to appear as if Modern Warfare will not dip its toe in the BR market. Some fans may still cling on to the hope of dominating their friends in search of a victory royale, they might just want to let go off what hope remains.

Modern Warfare dev teases Grau nerf coming to Warzone in Season 4 – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev teases Grau nerf coming to Warzone in Season 4 Infinity Ward / Reddit, ‘P-Hami'[jwplayer qiSnM8TU]For what feels like ages, the Grau has been the most dominant gun in Call of Duty: Warzone and has defined the battle royale’s meta—but developers suggest that may soon change. The M4A1 may reign supreme across Modern Warfare’s multiplayer map pool, but the Grau is king on Verdansk. The gun is as close to a laser as you can get in an assault rifle, beaming opponents from medium to long-range with little to no recoil, and an unsubstantial drop in damage from other AR’s. Every single current Warzone record has the Grau to thank; the gun’s iron sights make it a delight to play without an optic—allowing players to stack up on damage-intensifying attachments like the Monolithic Suppressor and gunfight-enabling ones like the 60-round Mag. But, following a fan’s inquiry on Twitter, Infinity Ward Co-Design Director Joe Cecot has comforted concerns by explaining that the team has “a batch of weapon tuning in the works.” https://twitter.com/joececot/status/1274034314305368064?s=21 As raised by ‘IVluLLa’ on Twitter, “the Grau is ruining Warzone right now.” Citing how often killcams show one as the culprit and how the M4 has already been hit with nerfs, the user raises a real concern: if Infinity Ward is content with nerfing overpowered weapons, then one AR controlling the battle royale’s meta should raise some eyebrows. What complicates things with the weapon in particular is that it really has no place in multiplayer, so it’s not like the gun is completely overpowered since its damage deficiencies at closer ranges are exposed in MP’s smaller maps. How have they not nerfed the Grau yet? We need new metas! pic.twitter.com/vZbnlbW7Yj — ScottishRebel67 (@scottishrebel67) June 14, 2020 But Warzone is filled with ranged encounters and, for players who might not want to run a sniper, people prefer to capitalize on the weapon’s capacity to knock opponents from deep. At the moment, that’s the most consistent meta among higher-skill players: a Grau complemented by an MP5 for close-combat warfare. This gives you the best of both worlds, as the former gun can essentially outduel real snipers (unless they’re across the map) and the latter weapon is simply a juggernaut with so much versatility that Call of Duty League pros continue to run it constantly, even after banning its Merc Foregrip with a Gentlemen’s Agreement. In response to the concern, Cecot officially confirmed that weapon tuning is underway and that these will surface in “the mid-season update.” It’s highly suggested that the Grau will be among these, but it remains to be seen whether it could be the first gun to be adjusted differently for Warzone and multiplayer or what other ones might be getting adjusted too.

Modern Warfare dev suggests esports took the fun out of Call of Duty – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev suggests esports took the fun out of Call of Duty CWL / Infinity WardInfinity Ward multiplayer designer working on Modern Warfare, Geoff Smith, has claimed that overly balanced Call of Duty games have made it less fun, suggesting esports could be the root of the issue. Smith is Infinity Ward’s co-design director, and one of the many former IW developers who returned to the studio having worked on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2. In an interview with PlayStation Magazine (via WCCFTECH), Smith blamed trying to “super-balance” everything for taking the “fun” out of recent entries in the series. 2020 will see the start of the city-based franchised league for Call of Duty, a major step forward for CoD esports, implementing the same system as has proven somewhat successful for Overwatch. However, Smith argues that esports could in fact be the cause for “boiling the fun out of” Call of Duty, because of the emphasis on balancing. “I think somewhere along the lines these games have tried to get so balanced, maybe it was esports, it’s kind of just boiled the fun out of the things when you try to super-balance everything,” Smith stated, “We’re just having fun. We want to just be able to climb around and have fun interactions.” Smith continued: “If I can creatively problem-solve this firefight, instead of having me forced down the hallway, I can use my brain better. I can get a different advantage. And it’s kind of a, you know, a puzzle-platform approach. We just want to create more dynamic interaction. “We’ve boiled it down to this micro-level of one-on-one combat, and what we can do to add variability to the outcome of that, from climbing around you to running inside and closing a door that causes you to make a choice, you’re going to run in and enter that building somehow.” There has been a divide between the competitive and casual community in Call of Duty for a number of years, and some on the casual side have even echoed Smith’s opinion that a focus on balance and competitive play has diminished the arcadey fun of CoD. Esports players, however, would argue that improved balance, both in weapons and maps, should always be strived for in a multiplayer shooter. Games like Modern Warfare 2, which Smith worked on, had glaring balance issues which ruined the game for many, most notably the combination of Grenade Launchers and the One Man Army perk, which would allow for endless grenade launcher (or ‘noob tube’) spam.

Modern Warfare dev slams ‘attention-seeking’ dataminer for fake leaks – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev slams ‘attention-seeking’ dataminer for fake leaks Infinity Ward developer Joe Cecot has taken aim at a Modern Warfare dataminer who leaked that a “massive overhaul” would be coming to the title, suggesting the YouTuber was chasing attention by dropping fake information. MW has been met with its fair share of leaks throughout development. From a 200 player battle royale mode to various DLC maps, a great deal of information has spilled out online well ahead of official confirmation from Infinity Ward. While certain leaks have been spot on, one particular claim from notorious dataminer ‘TheGamingRevolution’ seems to have been misguided, leading to a heated response from Infinity Ward’s co-design director of multiplayer Joe Cecot. The controversy stems from a since-deleted Tweet by TheGamingRevolution that outlined how “there’s a big overhaul coming” to Modern Warfare in the near future. From mini-map frustrations to spawning issues and overall map design, the Call of Duty community was desperate to see change at the time of the original post on November 1. Despite receiving a number of major updates ever-since, certain Modern Warfare players have continued to express their frustration. One particular fan called out Cecot directly, stating that “it is now December and we still have yet to see this ‘Overhaul.’ Nice way to say f*ck you.” Cecot has since come forward and disputed this heated comment, stating that the “overhaul was a fake statement to get attention.” https://twitter.com/JoeCecot/status/1201210818785792000 “We are constantly updating the game at least once a week, sometimes twice. Season 1 incoming,” he continued, outlining how the claims of one specific overhaul were entirely false and only served to benefit the leaker. Additionally, while updates have been flowing consistently since launch and Season One is indeed set to kick off on December 3, the one “big update” that the majority of players “keep asking about,” still eludes fans. Infinity Ward’s senior communications manager Ashton Williams shared on November 21 she was “finalizing notes,” however no update since her now-controversial post has addressed the primary concerns of the most avid players. https://twitter.com/ashtonisVULCAN/status/1197242593785942016 Furthering the issue , TheGamingRevolution highlighted how his early leaks were supposedly backed up by Williams’ statement. “Can people stop saying ‘but Infinity Ward never confirmed an overhaul.’ They specifically said a big update is coming,” the leaker explained. “They specifically mentioned the update that everyone is asking about, and the only big update that people were asking about was the overhaul.” “Ashton even directly mentioned, “the big update” that everyone was asking her about – referring to the overhaul. I don’t understand the mistruths or deception” he concluded. https://twitter.com/TheGamingRevoYT/status/1201271035775082498 https://twitter.com/TheGamingRevoYT/status/1201243420938973186 While Cecot took issue with the ‘attention-grabbing’ claims of an upcoming ‘overhaul,’ there’s no telling whether drastic changes are still in the pipeline to appease hardcore Call of Duty players. TheGamingRevolution went on to verify a number of his previous leaks including the recently confirmed 1v1 and 3v3 Gunfight game modes.

Modern Warfare: New Spec Ops details revealed – DLC, number of players and more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare: New Spec Ops details revealed – DLC, number of players and more GameInformer/Infinity WardJoel Emslie, Studio Art Director at Infinity Ward, has revealed more details about what fans can expect from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Spec Ops mode, after it has been confirmed to be replacing Zombies. With Modern Warfare’s release just over two months away, players are eager to learn as much as they can about the game prior to launch. However, developers Infinity Ward have been slow to release information, despite the game’s full multiplayer reveal having taken place on August 1. Joel Emslie, who currently serves as Infinity Ward’s Art Director, sat down with Game Informer to answer 129 questions about the upcoming Call of Duty title. Among other topics, he revealed significantly more about Spec Ops mode. Call of Duty’s Spec Ops mode has not featured in a game since Modern Warfare 3. It was a feature of Infinity Ward games, as Treyarch opted to include Zombies as their third mode alongside Campaign and Multiplayer. However, Activision appeared to deem Zombies more popular, as every CoD game since Ghosts (which featured Extinction) has had a variant of Treyarch’s original Zombies. “How big is the Spec Ops mode?” asked Ben Hanson. “Like where’s the line?” “I think what’s cool about it is that it has so much more depth than it did before,” responded Emslie, “and it has context.” When asked whether Spec Ops is a “sequel” to the game’s campaign, Emslie replied that “it’s a continuation of the campaign.” Hanson then enquired if there will be more missions added as DLC, with Emslie confirming that “we (Infinity Ward) intend to support it”. This suggests the game’s third mode will see downloadable content added over the course of Modern Warfare’s life-cycle, in a similar manner to how Zombies has been supported over the past few titles. (Timestamp: 5:20) Split screen and four-player co-op Finally, Emslie confirmed that Spec Ops will support split-screen play, and he “believes” can support up to four people playing cooperatively. There has already been considerable excitement regarding the return of Spec Ops, given it has been eight years since it was featured in a Call of Duty game. Emslie’s responses are sure to bring even more excitement to the player base, as it becomes clearer how much Infinity Ward are preparing to invest into Modern Warfare’s ‘third game mode’.

Modern Warfare dev reveals another nerf coming to 725 shotgun – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev reveals another nerf coming to 725 shotgun Infinity Ward, developers behind Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, have revealed that another nerf is on it way for the infamous 725 shotgun, despite it being weakened in the 1.07 patch notes on November 8. Modern Warfare’s multiplayer has received numerous patches since its October 25 release, with many aiming to iron the small bugs and inconsistencies players have stumbled across. One major complaint players have had is the relative strength of one weapon in particular: the 725 shotgun. The double-barrelled shotgun has a tight hip fire spread, impressive range, and a phenomenal fire rate for its two shots. The 1.07 patch notes were released on November 8, introducing nerfs to the M4A1 and claymores, as well as bringing two new maps into Modern Warfare: Krovnik Farmland and Shoot House. In the update, the 725 shotgun had its damage range reduced, while ADS speed and hipfire spread were both increased. It had previously been capable of some bizarre cross map kills, as well as incredibly consistent ‘one-shot kills’. While the nerf is noticeable in-game, many players have argued it still does not go far enough. One of these players was YouTuber and streamer Hutch, who tweeted that he can see the “difference”, but questioned whether it remained too strong. Joe Cecot, Co-Design Director of Multiplayer on MW, responded: “Another tweak is coming which should massage out the rare very long shot.” Another tweak is coming which should massage out the rare very long shot. Now if the target is at low health this thing will always reach out. https://t.co/qN3cCNovOP — Joe Cecot (@JoeCecot) November 9, 2019 Essentially, there is another patch coming to eliminate the possibility of the 725 being able to kill enemies at assault rifle ranges. However, the 725 being able to finish off weakened enemies at longer ranges is intended, and will be staying in the game. Cecot also explained that they were tentative in their first nerf, so as to avoid making the weapon completely unviable. “We’re being careful to retain the soul of the 725,” he said. It definitely is. We’re being careful to retain the soul of the 725. — Joe Cecot (@JoeCecot) November 9, 2019 There is a rare one shot at range if all possible pellets hit. Changes still to come. — Joe Cecot (@JoeCecot) November 9, 2019 Infinity Ward are being careful not to nerf the weapon too hard, as it still has a role to play in the game. In past CoD games certain weapons have been nerfed too hard – to the extent that they were made unusable for the majority of the year. For example, Black Ops III launched with the Vesper SMG as the undisputed best weapon in the game. It was subsequently nerfed into the ground by Treyarch, and was barely used for the remainder of the year, until a buff late on saw it become viable again. It was then nerfed again so as not to affect the meta going into Black Ops III’s CWL Championships. That is Cecot’s point: they want the gun to remain usable and to minimize the number of patches they have to implement. Hopefully this second nerf sees it at a more balanced level.

Modern Warfare dev responds to Ninja slamming Gunfight changes – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev responds to Ninja slamming Gunfight changes A Modern Warfare developer has responded to criticism from popular Mixer streamer, Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins, in a Tweet posted on December 15. As with any major popular title, Modern Warfare has faced its fair share of backlash from casual players, pros and popular streamers alike in the time since its release. Ninja has added himself to that list of names, calling out Activision for a change that they made to the Gunfight game mode. Having found a game he can grind alongside Fortnite, Ninja can often be seen on stream playing Modern Warfare with the likes of Tim ‘TimTheTatman’ Betar and Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop. More often than not, they’ll play Gunfight — a one-life, 2v2 mode that is new to the Call of Duty franchise. But Ninja isn’t happy with the changes they’ve made to it. In a Tweet posted on December 15, Ninja expressed his concern relating to the “ridiculous” and “unnecessary” changes that Activision have made. I feel like Gunfight was one of the best game modes to grace FPS in the last decade. It’s really unfortunate that Activision is making so many ridiculous unnecessary changes to the game mode. — Ninja (@Ninja) December 16, 2019 The change Ninja is referring to likely pertains to the Gunfight OSP game mode, in which you spawn without any weapons and have to pick them up around the map — as opposed to the usual Gunfight, where you spawn in with a set class. David Mickner, a multiplayer designer at Infinity Ward, soon responded to Ninja explaining the decision, where he explained that it isn’t a permanent fixture and that “normal Gunfight” will be back in the playlist soon. Normal Gunfight will be back soon, but I’ll use this as ammunition to keep it around the next time we run a limited time mode variation of it 😉 — David Mickner (@DavidMickner) December 16, 2019 Ninja responded simply saying “I love you” — clearly impressed with Mickner’s commitment to bringing variation to the game but happy that Gunfight will be returning back to normal. How often they’ll change to limited-time modes isn’t yet clear, but it’s fair to say that Ninja will be hoping that it doesn’t happen again for a while.

Modern Warfare dev responds to glitch with Season 3 emblems – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev responds to glitch with Season 3 emblems Infinity WardAshton Williams, senior communications manager at Infinity Ward, has responded to issues surrounding Season 3 emblems in Modern Warfare, and confirmed when fans can expect a patch. Modern Warfare’s Season 3 is quickly winding down, with Season 4 set to launch on June 3, and bring with it a plethora of new content for players to enjoy. However, as players try and complete any outstanding challenges on their Season 3 battle pass, a new bug has emerged that does not reward players with emblems in the way they should. Infinity Ward’s 2019 title has put more emphasis on emblems as rewards for challenges, including tiered emblems for completing challenges across Season 3. Despite this, players have found that some of their emblems are not being rewarded properly, even weeks after completing the necessary challenges. These include the tenth tier battle pass emblem, meant to be given to players upon completing all relevant challenges across Season 3. One Twitter user who has experienced the issues tweeted Williams about the issues, saying: “Still have not gotten my 10th emblem and it’s been 2 weeks. I’m on PS4”. Thankfully, Williams was on hand to provide an update on the fix, confirming that it will be coming in the game’s next update. This will likely be the launch of Season 4 itself, coming late on June 2 or early on June 3, depending on your timezone. The details of the fix have not been fully revealed yet, but it will likely award the emblem to all players who have completed the challenge. Given the fact it looks likely to be patched with the Season 4 launch, we can expect the challenges to be replaced by a fresh list for completion in Season 4. Alongside bug fixes, players are eagerly anticipating the content coming with Season 4, including the Galil and Vector (albeit called the Fennec). Captain Price has also been revealed as the new operator. Verdansk map changes have also been hinted at, but are not yet confirmed. So if you’re waiting on your awarded emblems to turn up, you shouldn’t have to wait too long, and a bunch of new content will be coming with them.

Modern Warfare dev responds to Field Upgrade Pro issues – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev responds to Field Upgrade Pro issues Infinity WardInfinity Ward’s multiplayer director Joe Cecot has responded to a glitch where Field Upgrade Pro would fail to work correctly for Modern Warfare players. Field Upgrades are one of the new Call of Duty features that were introduced in Modern Warfare and they provide players with cooldown-based bonuses such as Dead Silence or a Munitions Box. While players can only choose one per game initially, after reaching a certain rank you will be able to unlock Field Upgrade Pro, which allows you to equip two bonuses at once. Field Upgrade Pro can be great for indecisive players or for situational plays in different game modes, however, some Call of Duty fans have noticed a strange glitch with the new feature. One Modern Warfare player, CODView, highlighted that the Pro version would not always work and called out to Infinity Ward dev Joe Cecot for a response. “Any ideas on Field Upgrade Pro working intermittently on some maps/modes on PC? Some games you just don’t get the Pro option,” they inquired, also highlighting an issue with team chat. @JoeCecot Any ideas on Field Upgrade Pro working intermittently on some maps/modes on PC? Some games you just don’t get the Pro option. Also why team chat is intermittent on some maps/modes as well even though it is bound and I am on a team. Both issues have been around a while. pic.twitter.com/7abBIG7o8i — Dragon (@CODView) June 10, 2020 Joe Cecot responded claiming that Modern Warfare devs were aware of the Field Upgrades issue and are currently working on tracking down the cause. We are trying to track this down. Do you know if you were playing in the CDL playlists at all? — Joe Cecot (@JoeCecot) June 10, 2020 The Field Upgrade Pro issues seem to be affecting players across many game modes, however, it is likely that the developers will be looking to implement a fix in one of the future updates. Infinity Ward have announced that more bug fixes and new content will be added to the game during the Season 4 update, which has recently been confirmed for June 11.

Modern Warfare dev responds to fans calling for more 6v6 maps – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev responds to fans calling for more 6v6 maps Call of Duty players have been clamoring for more 6v6 maps in Modern Warfare, and now developers Infinity Ward have finally issued a response. Maps have been one of the hottest topics of contention since back when Modern Warfare was still in beta, some even calling them the worst in Call of Duty history. One of the biggest issues fans have had with the maps is the fact a majority of them are too large, leaving only a handful small enough to be viably used for standard 6v6 game modes, such as Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, and Domination. Thus, one of the most oft-requested things has been for Infinity Ward to add more small maps that play better for those 6v6 modes. On January 7, in response to a mention of that on Twitter, Infinity Ward Art Director Joel Emslie replied: “We completely hear you guys on this. Been working on it and continue as fast as we humanly can.” https://twitter.com/ArtPeasant/status/1214598093640851457?ref_src=twsrctfwtwcamptweetembedtwterm1214598093640851457&ref_url=httpscharlieintel.commodern-warfare-dev-says-theyve-heard-feedback-to-have-more-6v6-maps-working-as-fast-as-possible58777 This is obviously very encouraging for most players to hear, as it’s an admission that the devs are indeed working on making and adding more 6v6 maps. To be completely fair, since the release of Modern Warfare, Infinity Ward have added four 6v6 maps – Shoot House, Shipment, Vacant, and Crash – the latter three coming as part of Season 1’s major content drop. However, while Shoot House has been a massive success, players have been more hesitant to praise the addition of the other three since they’re all from the original CoD 4 title and have been remade/remastered twice already. Read More: Infinity Ward tease new style of Operators – It would be hard to blame fans for feeling a bit disgruntled because they’d much rather see new 6v6 maps rather than old ones get recycled over and over again, hence the tweet above. When will Modern Warfare get more new maps? Now that we know there are new 6v6 maps in the works, the question remains on when they will be added into the game. The earliest we will see one will most likely be with the launch of Season 2, which, like Season 1, will bring a massive wave of new content. At this point, it’s unclear how many maps each new season will bring, and whether or not older maps will be again remade for this 2019 installment. Read more: Modern Warfare Jan 7 patch notes – However, what is set in stone is the fact that all of the new maps will be 100% free for players on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, since Activision is no longer using the Season Pass and purchasable-DLC model.

Modern Warfare dev responds to fan requests – loadout slots, more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev responds to fan requests – loadout slots, more Joe Cecot – Co-Design Director of Multiplayer at Infinity Ward – has responded to multiple fans about potential changes to Modern Warfare, including the possibility of more ‘create-a-class’ slots. Infinity Ward have been criticized for their lack of communication with the CoD community since Modern Warfare released at the end of October 2019. They have been incredibly tight-lipped about matchmaking as the debate about it being skill-based rages on. However, on December 31, Joe Cecot responded to multiple fans asking about new features and adjustments that could be coming to Modern Warfare soon. Most notably, he responded to one player who asked if Infinity Ward would consider giving players more than 5 ‘loadouts’. Previous CoD games have allowed players to earn an extra loadout slot every time they prestige. This allowed greater scope to try weapons and mix and match attachment combinations. However, Modern Warfare has (so far) limited all players to five classes, when previous games allowed up to 20. One Modern Warfare player asked whether Infinity Ward had considered giving players more slots for their loadouts as five has not been considered enough. In reply, Cecot simply said: “Yes :)”. While he did not confirm that more slots would be coming soon, his positive tone was largely interpreted by Twitter users as an indication Infinity Ward are working on it. https://twitter.com/JoeCecot/status/1212063064268443649?s=20 Secondly, the absence of prestiging in Modern Warfare has resulted in some fans being concerned about the incentive to grind for higher levels. Previous CoD games have offered unique emblems and calling cards, but Modern Warfare’s first season reset players to level 56, allowing them only to work up to Level 155 before its second season starts. When asked by a fan whether a “unique icon” would be awarded for reaching max level, Joe Cecot responded: “I definitely think there are improvements we can make in this area.” Once again, he did not promise anything, but indicated that Infinity Ward are working on offering more incentive as a result of the absence of prestiging. https://twitter.com/JoeCecot/status/1211853966478319616?s=20 Finally, Cecot hinted that changes could be coming to Cranked – the game mode Infinity Ward brought back from CoD: Ghosts. Cecot described one fan’s idea, which suggested turning the benefits of being ‘cranked’ into “Specialist Bonuses”, as “very cool”. https://twitter.com/JoeCecot/status/1212202111523606528 He also confirmed that a new way to use “blueprints” is going into testing now. This was in reply to a fan who wanted “blueprint camos to work with all attachments”. https://twitter.com/JoeCecot/status/1212229622185758721?s=20 It’s important to remember that a lot of variables can impact new patches and adjustments, so we’ll have to wait and see whether certain changes materialize – particularly in relation to the extra loadout slots a lot of fans are demanding.

Modern Warfare dev responds to concerns about ‘3 lane’ map design – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev responds to concerns about ‘3 lane’ map design ActivisionInfinity Ward’s Narrative Director Taylor Kurosaki has dismissed suggestions that Modern Warfare will only use the three lane map design for their multiplayer mode, a common complaint from fans about recent titles. Since around Black Ops II in 2012, the majority of Call of Duty games have stuck to ‘three lane map’ design, copying off Treyarch’s formula for making fluid, compact multiplayer maps. For example, after criticism surrounding CoD: Ghosts’ oversized maps, Infinity Ward suggested prior to Infinite Warfare that they would be trying to design more fluid, three lane maps. However, community opinion appears to have shifted of late, as CoD players are seemingly becoming tired of similar map designs, arguing they are tired and repetitive. On July 19, one Twitter user tweeted to Taylor Kurosaki explaining that they hope not all the maps in Modern Warfare follow the three lane design, arguing it “feels like every map is the same if they are all 3 lane”. Kurosaki didn’t waste words though, simply replying to confirm that “They aren’t”. There were mixed responses to the developer’s tweet, as some fans were clearly excited at the prospect of unfamiliar, new map designs, while some feared that the maps may not play particularly well if the formula is moved away from. 2018’s release, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, has been criticized by some community members, including OpTic Hitch, for its lacklustre DLC maps, which have been labelled as overly-large and complex. For example, Lockup is one map that pros such as OpTic Karma have criticized, and features far more than three lanes, as well as vertical gunfights caused by the players’ abilities to get onto the roof of the police HQ. As a result of this, it’s clear that Infinity Ward will have to tread a fine line when it comes to map design, as a number of players clearly still favor the game’s historical three lane map formula, while others think it needs innovating. The three lane design has often been praised in the competitive community especially, as it lends itself more to the more tactical, strategical, or perhaps even predictable, gameplay. For casual players though, this may not always be best. As more information about Modern Warfare is revealed, both officially and via leaks, you can stay up to date on Dexerto.

Modern Warfare dev provides major update on killstreaks on CDL playlist – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev provides major update on killstreaks on CDL playlist Infinity WardA Modern Warfare developer has provided fans with a major update about the future of killstreaks in the game’s Call of Duty League playlist. With the start of the Call of Duty League in January, Infinity Ward finally released a playlist featuring the game modes, maps, and rules that fans can watch their favorite professional players and teams compete under during competition matches. In CDL matches, one thing that is noticeably missing from play are killstreaks, which are normally earned by competitors when they chain together kill after kill, with things like UAVs, rockets, or attack helicopters all available to be called in during public matches in the game. In professional competition, these strikes are either banned by Infinity Ward themselves or not used by players as part of gentlemen’s agreements, However, when the playlist launched, they were all available inside it. Unsurprisingly, this was extremely frustrating for those who had been excited about competing against opponents under the same ruleset as the pro players, with many calling on the developers to introduce the same settings that pro players use, even including some Call of Duty League casters who grew frustrated by the situation. “I love Call of Duty,” wrote Miles Ross, who can regularly be heard calling the action with Phillip ‘Momo’ Whitfield, “But killstreaks in the CDL playlist have got to go.” The good news is that Infinity Ward are not only aware of the sentiment, but will be rolling out a patch to address the issue, with Infinity Ward multiplayer designer David Mickner replying: “The playlist settings reflect all killstreaks being restricted, but we need a small patch update to validate. Coming in the near future.” The playlist settings reflect all killstreaks being restricted but we need a small patch update to validate. Coming in the near future — David Mickner (@DavidMickner) February 19, 2020 Under current CDL rules, the only streaks that are not specifically banned are the VTOL Jet, Cruise Missile, and Gunship, although those are not in use by pro players anyway. Whether they will be available to unlock in the playlist once the patch is issued remains to be seen, but Mickner’s statement that “all” killstreaks will be restricted implies that Infinity Ward will be following the pros with this update. There is currently no official release time for this patch, but the developer did confirm that it would be coming in the near future, and with Modern Warfare usually receiving updates on Tuesdays, the earliest we can likely expect to see it is February 25.

Modern Warfare devs looking into “biggest complaint” with Gunfight Alpha – Dexerto
Modern Warfare devs looking into “biggest complaint” with Gunfight Alpha GameInformer/Infinity WardInfinity Ward’s Community Manager, Ashton Williams, has responded to what players are describing as their “biggest complaint” in the Modern Warfare Gunfight Alpha. Modern Warfare’s Gunfight Alpha dropped slightly earlier than its scheduled August 23 release date. It sees the majority of players given their first chance to get their hands on Infinity Ward’s latest installment in the Call of Duty series. As is standard with an early build of a game, a Reddit thread has been specifically created to track bugs and glitches in the game, to minimize potential problems upon release. One hot topic among fans was a new visual feature for Call of Duty, where a player’s screen pulses black and white when they are seriously damaged. Most CoD games have a similar feature, such as red haze appearing around the screen’s edges when heavily damaged. However, many Reddit users complained that the new visual feature has made visibility difficult and is jarring for players to deal with. Reddit u/speedy117 said that: “It might get taking used to, but I don’t really like how your screen turns black and white when you’re really hurt.” Ashton Williams, Infinity Ward’s Community Manager, responded that she has “seen a few comments about this. No promises, but something we can look into.” As a Community Manager, Williams’ focus is on communication rather than direct involvement in the game’s development, but she will pass on the feedback to the game’s developers. One Reddit user stated that it is “by far the biggest complaint” with the Gunfight alpha, while another said they’d prefer “the old “red/blood” hud around your screen when you are damaged, full B&W is annoying, feels weird to look at and makes fighting back incredibly hard”. While nothing is promised, it certainly sounds like Infinity Ward is taking community feedback on board and are open to making changes to their game. This is the second feature Williams has promised Infinity Ward will look into, after earlier saying that they will investigate the possibilities of adding custom ADS sensitivity controls. However, an FOV slider on console won’t be featured in Modern Warfare, as confirmed on August 23.

Modern Warfare devs revealed “safe place” plans for new players months ago – Dexerto
Modern Warfare devs revealed “safe place” plans for new players months ago Less than a week after the release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare, and hardcore fans are not happy about how exceedingly beginner-friendly the new game is. A resurfaced clip from an interview with the developers reveals that this was the plan all along. With a big release like Modern Warfare, and with the Call of Duty League on the horizon, Activision and Infinity Ward were tasked with the challenge of developing a Call of Duty game that could draw in new fans and satisfy the diehards. Based on some reactions from veteran and hardcore players, they haven’t been able to do both. But a clip from an interview with the developers from two months ago indicates that trying to please both camps wasn’t a goal for Activision at all, and based on their statements, their priority was to please beginners first and foremost. The clip made its way to the near top of the ModernWarfare and Competitive CoD subreddits. Starts at 38:58 for mobile users. In an interview conducted by Game Informer’s Brian Shea, Infinity Ward’s studio narrative director Taylor Kurosaki and multiplayer design director Joe Cecot are asked about balance in multiplayer, and both developers doubled down on the importance of getting new players in the game. “We want to get new players in the game, we don’t want them to get punched in the mouth over and over again until they leave, “ says Cecot. “That’s a big focus for us. Our weapons are a bit more lethal than in Black Ops, and that helps a lower skill player get a kill and have some success.” This decision also affected the design of maps, says Cecot. “We want those players to have a safe place to take their time.” When asked by the interviewer if that approach would come at the expense of hardcore players, Cecot said that wasn’t the plan, but reiterated the goal of making sure lower skill players didn’t have bad experiences. “We have to make choices on how we matchmake.” The goal of making a beginner-retentive game has resulted in more and more hardcore fans expressing their displeasure, most notably about how lethal certain weapons are, and the higher-than-usual amount of camping. Pro players have expressed their frustrations too, with some big names sounding off on the latest release. Seth ‘Scump’ Abner said on stream that he had “never, ever in his life played a more horrible Call of Duty competitively than this. What a f*****g joke of a game.” Matthew ‘FormaL’ Piper expressed dismay that “people were paid to make these maps.” Matthew ‘Nadeshot’ Haag called the maps horrendous on Twitter. Gunplay on Modern Warfare is great but the maps are horrendous. — 100T Nadeshot (@Nadeshot) October 25, 2019 Commercially, Modern Warfare is doing well when it comes to sales, but an unhappy and unsatisfied pro player base heading into an inaugural, franchised league worth millions of dollars is not a good sign for Activision.

Modern Warfare dev gives update on how Killstreaks will work in a ‘single life’ – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev gives update on how Killstreaks will work in a ‘single life’ Infinity WardCall of Duty players who have been wondering about how Killstreaks will work in Modern Warfare have now finally gotten their answer. Killstreaks, among other things, are a fundamental aspect of Call of Duty multiplayer, occupying an integral role in both casual and competitive matches. Recent titles have transitioned streaks to be based on score instead of consecutive kills, but Infinity Ward have already confirmed that Modern Warfare will take process of earning streaks back to the old school method. That news has caught the attention of many veteran players, who have posted the question of whether they will be able to ‘wrap their streaks’ in the same life. Read More: Confirmed weapons, killstreaks & more in MW – Wrapping streaks means earning a set of Killstreaks multiple times in the same life, often using the first set to get the consecutive kills needed to unlock a second set. On August 4, that question was finally answered by Joe Cecot, the Co-Design Director of Multiplayer at Infinity Ward: “For this game, we’re not wrapping Killstreaks in a single life.” This, of course, means that players will be able to earn just one set of Killstreaks per life, and cannot pile up their streaks to wreak havoc on the enemy team. Thanks for the question Ixhdz. For this game we’re not wrapping Killstreaks in a single life. — Joe Cecot (@JoeCecot) August 4, 2019 Among CoD titles that have features Killstreaks, there has been variety when it comes to allowing players to wrap them in a single life. Modern Warfare 3 and Ghosts both allowed wrapping of streaks, while Modern Warfare 1 and 2, World at War, and Black Ops 4 all only allowed each set to be earned once per life. As a result, this announcement about MW has led to a divided opinion among the veteran players of those games when they were at their peak. Those in favor of wrapping want to be able to unleash hell upon the opposing players in their lobby, while those against are happy that casual matches will be allowed to remain balanced, and not fall under the thumb of merciless pub-stompers. However, in hindsight, it would appear that Infinity Ward were never really going to allow wrapping in Modern Warfare, considering the steps they’ve taken to ensure that lesser-skilled and newer players will be able to have at least some fun.

Modern Warfare dev finally confirms when Hardhat is coming in Season 3 – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev finally confirms when Hardhat is coming in Season 3 Infinity WardJoe Cecot, Infinity Ward’s Co-Design Director of Multiplayer, has finally revealed when the Hardhat map remake will be dropping in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Among original maps like Shoothouse and Khandor Hideout, Infinity Ward have also put considerable effort into re-skinning fan-favorite maps from past Call of Duty titles. We’ve already seen Vacant, Shipment and Rust added to the 2019 title, and Modern Warfare 3’s Hardhat was confirmed as coming during the ongoing Season 3. While no release date was originally given, IW’s Joe Cecot has finally revealed when it’s being added. On May 8, Cecot was asked via Twitter when fans can expect the Hardhat remake. In reply, the Infinity Ward developer confirmed that it will be coming as part of the “mid-season update”, and that he’s “excited too”. Season 3 launched on April 8, and Season 4’s expected start date is early June, most likely June 3. Hence, we can expect the mid-season update to be coming very soon. A likely date at the moment is Tuesday, May 12, as Modern Warfare’s biggest patches tend to be published on Tuesdays. We haven’t seen any images of the Hardhat remake, so the exact aesthetic of the map remains unknown. Modern Warfare 3 was a considerably darker game than 2019’s Modern Warfare, utilizing far more browns and greys. Read More: How to climb up the Dam in Warzone – Fans were understandably excited by the news, as many have been anticipating the Hardhat remake since it was confirmed as part of Season 3. Related – The Upset That Created One of CoD’s Greatest Dynasties: Given Cecot’s confirmation, we can also expect the new Gunfight map, called Aisle 9, to also drop as part of the mid-season update.

Modern Warfare dev explains why players shouldn’t panic over the mini-map – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev explains why players shouldn’t panic over the mini-map Infinity WardInfinity Ward’s Studio Art Director has explained why players shouldn’t worry about the mini-map in the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – or the lack thereof. Following Modern Warfare’s full multiplayer reveal on August 1, many members of the CoD community have been concerned about one key aspect – the lack of a minimap as a default part of players’ HUD. Infinity Ward confirmed that mini-maps will feature in Modern Warfare – but only as a killstreak, under the name ‘Personal Radar’, earned after a two killstreak, or UAV, earned after three kills in a row. On August 3, Joel Emslie – Art Director at Infinity Ward – responded to a fan on Twitter, who asked whether they are open to changing their current stance on minimaps, depending on Beta feedback. “Are you open to changing the mini map situation if enough people are dissatisfied in the beta?” asked the Twitter user. “The most productive way to go about this is to let everyone play the game/beta and think for themselves,” responded Emslie. “There has been enough feedback given on first impressions of viewing. It’s important that feedback be based on experience and not second hand.” The most productive way to go about this is to let everyone play the game/beta and think for themselves. There has been enough feedback given on first impressions of viewing. Its important that feedback be based on experience and not second hand. — Joel Emslie (@ArtPeasant) August 3, 2019 Essentially, Emslie seems to be saying that Infinity Ward are open to making changes, depending on how the majority of players feel after actually playing the game. It’s easy to see both sides of the argument, given the significant change represented by the removal of the minimap. However, it’s also understandable that Infinity Ward want to innovate certain aspects of the game, and that criticism so far has been based on looks alone and the opinions of very few players. When is the Modern Warfare beta? The game’s cross-play beta has been confirmed, and is structured as follows: PlayStation 4 Exclusive Beta September 12 – 13 (Early Access, PlayStation 4) – September 14 – 16 (Open Beta, PlayStation 4) – – Beta featuring crossplay testing September 19 – 20 (Early Access, PC and Xbox One; Open Beta, PlayStation 4) – September 21 – 23 (Open Beta, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One) – – The PlayStation early access is no surprise, and follows a couple of years of Sony partnering with Call of Duty to garner special privileges for their players. It also sounds like, if Emslie’s words are anything to go by, that Infinity Ward are open to making major changes to the game’s current build, if the feedback from the beta demands it.

Modern Warfare dev explains why they’re not implementing 3-lane “symmetrical” maps – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev explains why they’re not implementing 3-lane “symmetrical” maps Infinity WardMultiplayer design director at Infinity Ward, Geoffrey Smith, has given a deeper explanation of map design for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, revealing why they’re not implementing the three-lane “symmetrical” design. Since 2012’s Black Ops 2 from Treyarch, Call of Duty has used a tried and tested map design philosophy, relying largely on ‘three-lane’ maps, which were almost always symmetrical in shape. Fan favorites like Raid and Standoff made the design popular, but there has been a growing portion of CoD players becoming tired of the symmetrical designs, and Modern Warfare is aiming to shake this up. One key element of Modern Warfare which has been reiterated frequently by the developers is a focus on realism, a drastic move away from the very futuristic style of Black Ops 4, or even Infinity Ward’s last game, Infinite Warfare. Developer Geoffrey Smith explained to GameInformer: “A lot of map design recently in CoD has been more symmetrical, and make the maps feel more like arena-based shooters. “But going to Modern Warfare, we wanted to keep that realism, and whenever you start doing symmetrical layouts, it really starts throwing people’s brains off. Humans can pick up patterns really easily, and so to make this space feel real, you really have to hide those three lanes.” The maps still feature three lanes, but are much more complicated and convoluted between each lane, making their structure more obscure. Smith also explains the team’s use of “hero buildings” – structures which are main features of the map, typically because they house an objective like a hardpoint or bomb site. Showing the map Grazna Raid, Smith says that it strikes a chord with him, as it’s similar to the kind of maps made for Call of Duty 2. “I feel like a lot of games will kind of clip off a lot of stuff, and not let you climb on things”, Smith says, claiming that IW has “taken the plastic wrap off of grandma’s furniture” with the new game, with more unrestricted movement. Whether the risk of not including proven three-lane design style pays off remains to be seen, but for Call of Duty players who had grown tired of the symmetrical maps of past games, it will be a welcome change. Modern Warfare releases on October 25 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Modern Warfare dev explains how new multiplayer aim assist options work – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev explains how new multiplayer aim assist options work ActivisionCall of Duty: Modern Warfare developer Joe Cecot has explained how the new aim assist options will work in multiplayer, as players have noticed there are more options for this installment of the long-running series. Before the Modern Warfare open beta arrives, players were given a taste of the action on PS4 through the Gunfight alpha which showcased the new 2v2 mode. While fiddling around in the menus, players came across the numerous aim assist options that exist in the game, that have never been seen before in previous titles. The four options are: Disabled, Standard, Experimental, and Enhanced. Disabled and Standard are self-explanatory, while Experimental is “Precision aim slowdown that factors in target velocity”, and Enhanced is “Precision aim slowdown with additional near-miss assist.” Multiplayer developer Joe Cecot answered the questions on Reddit, and went into detail about what players will be able to expect with aim assist in the new game, explaining the beta will provide better explanations. “New names and descriptions will be present in the beta that better describe the options,” he wrote.” There are even some bugs with these as they stand in the alpha.” He explained right now that each different option will help players across all skill levels. “I can say that they are unique options that should help players of different skill levels and play styles,” Cecot wrote. “Some players need more assist, some players need less, some players move quickly and some engage from a distance, etc.” A player asked about one option being considered objectively better than the other so why not just use the better one, but Cecot explained that wasn’t the case. “Specifically each is different,” he said. “For instance, one doesn’t slow down your aim when pointing close to a target as much as the traditional aim assist does. I personally don’t like this, but higher skilled players who have better stick control do like it. They feel they can get on target faster with less help from the system.” The upcoming Call of Duty is going to be fully cross-play with consoles and PC, so having all the different options will help balance the playing field. There are concerns though that one of the aim assist options will give a legitmate advantage over others. Modern Warfare releases October 25, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Modern Warfare dev explains huge update size and why it’s actually good – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev explains huge update size and why it’s actually good Infinity WardThe Season Two update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare came in at a whopping 67GB for PC and Xbox, and 51GB for PS4, causing players to delete other games and wait hours and hours for downloads. But, an Infinity Ward dev has clarified the reason for the absurd patch size. Only two weeks prior to the Season Two update, another patch also went out, which demanded almost 50GB for PC users too. This is all after the game itself is installed, which required a whopping 175GBs at launch. It’s safe to say that many players, especially those on consoles with 500GB hard drives, are getting just a little perplexed by these massive file sizes. Seeing (and perhaps expecting) the furor on social media after the patch went live on February 11, Infinity Ward Production Director Paul Haile has apologized and explained on Twitter. “As we push season 2 live I just want to apologize about the download size of this update,” Haile wrote. “We’re constantly trying to fight back against both download size and disk footprint and in this case, we’re re-sending new asset packs to reduce the overall size of the game.” What this means, is that despite the actual update size being so large, the new assets will replace the old, therefore reducing the overall size of the Modern Warfare game file on players’ systems. this is what has caused the update today to be so big. after todays download you should see that, even though we’ve added season 2 and the associated content for it, the overall size of the game should shrink a little on your local hard drive. — Paul Haile (@Tyrael) February 11, 2020 “After today’s download, you should see that even though we’ve added Season Two and the associated content for it, the overall size of the game should shrink a little on your local hard drive,” he concluded. In better news, the developer also revealed that changes have been made in this update to manage the data better, which should result in smaller update sizes in future patches. Perhaps most interestingly, for console users at least, will be a future option to deselect certain DLC packs. “In a future update we’re going to also be adding a DLC pack management screen for console users, to allow you to pick and choose which DLC packs you want to keep, and remove others to recover more space as well.” i’m very conscious of the overall size of MW and we’re doing what we can to minimize this for everyone. thanks! — Paul Haile (@Tyrael) February 11, 2020 Although many PC users will have larger disk spaces, with the availability of high capacity SSDs and 2TB hard drives, console users are limited. The PS4 Pro and Xbox One X come with 1TB hard drives, which can fill up quickly with only a handful of modern games, and the basic consoles only have 500GB. Having a single game using up over 100GB is far from ideal, and often forces players to delete entire games to make space for a new one. Developers will know that this is not good for player retention too, as the prospect of having to reinstall a game all over again might be enough to put someone off playing it again. One other reason this update may have been so large might have to do with the battle royale game mode which has been teased and leaked, though has not been officially announced yet.

Modern Warfare dev explains how player outlines will work to replace mini-map – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev explains how player outlines will work to replace mini-map Infinity WardAn Infinity Ward employee has responded to community concerns over how player outlines will work in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, following the game’s multiplayer reveal on August 1. While the majority of the CoD community is excited for Modern Warfare’s release on October 25, there are concerns around the game, and some of its more controversial features, or lack of more precisely. Following the full multiplayer reveal on August 1, Infinity Ward confirmed that mini-maps will feature in Modern Warfare – but only as a killstreak, under the name ‘Personal Radar’, earned after a two killstreak, or UAV, earned after three kills in a row. This is a monumental change for Call of Duty, as mini-maps have long been an integral part of multiplayer, so players can see the locations of their teammates, predict enemy spawns, and see enemy locations when they fire an unsilenced weapon. As a replacement for permanent mini-maps, Modern Warfare will feature visible teammate outlines, so players can still locate their allies. However, some players were concerned with this feature in the recently confirmed Ground War mode, which will feature teams of over 100 players, and so could come become ridiculously cluttered and difficult to follow. One Reddit user questioned player outlines in such a large game mode, which prompted Infinity Ward’s Art Director, Joel Emslie, to respond. “The outlines are proximity based,” he explained. “Also they would all have to be occluded behind geometry for an outline to be necessary. Outlines only appear when friendlies are behind things.” It appears then that you will only see teammate outlines when they are close enough to be relevant, and when they are not in a player’s line of sight. Not only will this be better in the large scale modes, but will also help to reduce screen clutter in regular 6v6 modes too. Another Reddit user asked whether the feature will be present in Hardcore modes, which typically do not feature HUD elements, in favor of a more realistic experience, but with no response. As more information trickles out about Modern Warfare, stay tuned to Dexerto.

Modern Warfare dev confirms weapon inspecting coming in Season 5 – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev confirms weapon inspecting coming in Season 5 Infinity WardUpdate (August 3 – 8 PM PT): Following on from days of rumors, Modern Warfare developer Joel ‘ArtPeasant‘ Emslie has confirmed that a weapon inspection feature will be coming in the major Season 5 update. “Some good news,” the developer shared on Reddit in an August 3 post. “Weapon Inspections – incoming,” he confirmed. The announcement was short and sweet, leaving no doubt as to when the feature will see the light of day across Warzone and Modern Warfare. The original story is as follows. Joe Cecot, co-design director of multiplayer at Infinity Ward, has teased a highly anticipated weapon inspect animation coming to Modern Warfare with the start of Season 5. Weapon inspecting has not been a staple of older Call of Duty games but has been incredibly popular since we saw it in both Modern Warfare Remastered and WWII. There have been frequent demands across Modern Warfare’s life cycle for the feature to be added and, while leaks have indicated it will be coming soon, we got our first official teaser from developers Infinity Ward. On August 2, Joe Cecot, co-design director of multiplayer at Infinity Ward, who regularly responds to Modern Warfare players on Twitter, made a comment that many interpreted as a teaser for weapon inspecting. One Modern Warfare user said: “Thanks for the content… let’s see some intel for Season 5 now please.” Cecot obliged and responded: “Nicely done. I love to inspect these weapon challenges!” Needless to say, the bizarre wording of the tweet garnered a lot of attention, with many interpreting it as an official teaser for a weapon inspect animation. We’ve actually seen inspect animations for Modern Warfare leaked in the past, but many dismissed them as fake or unconfirmed. One data miner, @DougDagnabbit, shared how the weapon inspect animation might look with the MP5 back in early July. I’ve just seen footage of the new “inspect weapon” animation coming to #CallOfDuty #ModernWarfare and #Warzone! It’s 100% legit. @ModernWarzone pic.twitter.com/OTrm0LDawM — DougDagnabbit (@dougdagnabbit) July 6, 2020 In terms of when we will see the animations drop in Modern Warfare, the start of Season 5 seems incredibly likely given the time of Cecot’s teaser. Season 5 will start on August 4, when the Season 4 battle pass expires. Players can expect a loot-filled train in Warzone, stadium to open and, now, weapon inspect animations. Whatever else Infinity Ward have up their sleeves, we’ll be the first to update you.

Modern Warfare dev confirms ‘Realism’ isn’t exclusively night mode – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev confirms ‘Realism’ isn’t exclusively night mode YouTube: Hollow/Infinity WardJoe Cecot, Co-Design Director of Multiplayer at Infinity Ward, has shared more details about Modern Warfare’s ‘Realism’ and ‘Night Mode’, confirming the two are not mutually exclusive. As Modern Warfare’s October 25 release date edges closer, information regarding the game is trickling out. Infinity Ward have been fairly tight-lipped regarding innovative features, seemingly keen for players to discover for themselves during the beta or on release. Details regarding ‘Realism’ and ‘Night Mode’ are particularly scarce, with players only indication being gameplays that are often released with limited context. On August 11, Joe Cecot gave players more information about the unclear features. Reddit user SeannyBoy made the enquiry, asking: “As we have only seen night playthroughs of realism.. can anyone confirm if realism is purely night mode? I hope not as I want a juiced up hardcore mode… And will we get a range of REALISM modes? SnD, TDM, etc along with new modes.” “Nope, Realism is a modifier you turn on,” explained Cecot. “Night mode is a map variant you choose when you pick your map. They are independent and can be used together to create some intense gameplay.” Essentially, players will have the option to switch ‘Realism’ on or not. The exact mechanics of this modifier aren’t clear yet, but many speculate it will operate in a similar way to CoD’s hardcore modes. Game Informer suggest that the two are similar but, in the build of the game available at the moment, Realism gave players full health and rewarded headshots with increased lethality. It remains to be seen whether other aspects will change when Realism is switched on, such as gun recoil or player stamina. Infinity Ward has vocalized their desires to make Modern Warfare a more grounded, realistic CoD experience. This contrasts with the approach taken by Treyarch recently, given their inclusion of futuristic weaponry and specialist abilities. Night Mode will seemingly be a customization option for all maps, giving players the option of seeing them through night vision goggles. Once again, this contrasts to Treyarch’s approach to maps, with certain maps getting darker re-skins, while others are simply thrown into sandstorms.

Modern Warfare dev confirms new master camo coming – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev confirms new master camo coming ActivisionAn Art Director at Infinity Ward has revealed that a new master camo – higher even than Damascus – will be coming to Modern Warfare at the “end of this month or early next,” and fans are already getting excited. Most Call of Duty games in recent years have had a mastery camo unlocked for completing every single camo challenge, ranging from Dark Matter in Black Ops 3 and 4, and this year’s Damascus iteration. It’s an achievement that the most serious players will spend hours grinding for, and take pride in donning on their weapons to prove that they are a talented player. Now, though, it appears players have got to grind a little more, with a new master camo on its way. After teasing a “very special new skin” coming to the game earlier in February, ArtPeasant, real name Joel Emslie, has now confirmed that the “new master camo” will be coming “end of this month or early next.” The comment was posted to Reddit on March 5, so we imagine the new as-yet-unnamed master camo will be arriving at the start of April at the very latest. Emslie also confirmed that the new camo will be unlocked through achievement, so there’s no need to worry about having to drop money on CoD points or in the store: it’s entirely down to your own ability and willingness to push for the next tier. It was also confirmed that this camo will not be replacing Damascus or any other camo, saying that they will “never remove, only add” to the pool of camos and cosmetics in the game. What exactly the camo will look like or how it’s earned isn’t yet known, but based on this comment we can probably except more information sooner rather than later. At launch, the Damascus camo was bugged and unable to be unlocked, so Infinity Ward will be hoping not to have any issues with this new camo when it finally drops.

Modern Warfare dev confirms highly-requested loadout change coming soon – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev confirms highly-requested loadout change coming soon Call of Duty: Modern Warfare developer Joel ‘ArtPeasant’ Emslie has confirmed that a highly-requested change to the game’s Create-A-Class system is on the way, after fans complained about the number of loadout slots available in the popular first-person shooter title. Modern Warfare officially released back in October, but one thing that the developers have refrained from addressing is the amount of class slots players have to toy with when creating their perfect loadout for matches, sticking to the five spaces that the title launched with despite cries from fans to add more. To make matters worse, previous entries to the Call of Duty franchise allowed players to unlock a new slot when they prestiged, but with the latest installment offering no Prestige mode to those who want to grind through the ranks, there hasn’t been a way to grab more loadout space, although according to designer ArtPeasant, that will now change in the near future. While Co-Design Director Joe Cecot stated that the development team had considered adding more loadout slots, the studio’s Art Director Emslie took things a step further, using Reddit to confirm not only had they been thinking about it, but that they would be implementing addition classes in the near future, responding to a complaint from a frustrated player who feels they don’t have enough space to work with in the system. “You and everyone else that has commented on this are right,” wrote the developer. “It’s in mainline back at the studio and we’ve been tinkering with it. I’m not sure which update it’s in but I think it’s next. Believe it or not, it can cause horrible bugs if not tested properly. I’m not certain about all this so don’t get fired up on me if I’m wrong. Since I’ve commented here, I’ll stick with the issue at the studio.” As for why they didn’t include more classes from the start, Emslie states the there are “tens of thousands of tasks that lead up to the launch of the game,” and the team had to decide which of these issues take priority over others, before pointing out that not everyone has the skillset to address the problem, and that the three-year development cycle goes by “in the blink of an eye.” ArtPeasant refrained from revealing how many loudout slots players will have in Create-A-Class once Infinity Ward rolls out the changes, but even five more would see a 100% increase in options for players, and would be a welcome addition for those desperate to create more options when heading into battle. Unfortunately, there’s no timeline for the fix, but with the Art Director confirming that it should appear in one of the next few updates, it seems like we won’t have to wait too long to get our hands on more loadout slots.

Modern Warfare dev addresses major bullet “collision” issues in Warzone – Dexerto
Modern Warfare dev addresses major bullet “collision” issues in Warzone Infinity WardJoe Cecot, co-design director of multiplayer at Infinity Ward, has finally responded to a strange hit registration issue in Modern Warfare and Warzone, which has been affecting players for some time. While Warzone has been generally well received by the Call of Duty community, certain issues have emerged. Among more prevalent issues like hacking, a host of players have been reporting mysterious hit reg issues in Warzone and Modern Warfare. It seems that some of them have now been explained, as Joe Cecot responded to a frustrated fan on July 19. The Twitter user simply asked: “Who do I talk to about this?” Attached was a Warzone clip, showing the player clearly aiming at an opponent, but his sniper shots failing to hit. To add insult to injury, the player is then downed by an opponent hitting their sniper shot. Thankfully, Joe Cecot was on hand to clarify the issue, and offer a potential explanation. “Looks like misaligned collision,” he said. “Reported, thanks!” While he did not delve any deeper, it appears that the wall on the rooftop was inhibiting the bullet from taking its normal path and hitting the player. In this case, it seems that incorrect textures are the root cause of the hit reg issues players have been experiencing. While this does not necessarily explain all of the problems, a number of players have been reporting similar issues. Now that the problems are on Infinity Ward’s radar, we can expect a fix coming in a future update. It’s not clear how much of the Warzone map is affected but, given the number of players who have experienced similar problems, it seems like multiple POIs are privy to the issues. While not as game-breaking as some other Warzone bugs we’ve seen, it’s incredibly frustrating to have shots miss for seemingly unclear reasons. Hopefully a future patch spells the end to this particular set of issues.

Modern Warfare December 6 patch notes: Shoot House 24/7, updates, more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare December 6 patch notes: Shoot House 24/7, updates, more Developers Infinity Ward have released another Modern Warfare update for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, adding back the Shoot House 24/7 playlist, implementing general fixes, and more. Following the massive Season One patch and content drop on December 3, many players were upset at Infinity Ward for removing the fan-favorite Shoot House 24/7 playlist from multiplayer. Just a day after teasing its return, the developers added it back to the playlist options on December 6 via a game settings update that also shuffled around some of the other map-mode combinations. Infinity Ward will hope that this will at least help them get back in favor with fans, who were not only displeased because of the playlist’s removal, but also at the allegations that the developers made hidden changes with the Season One update without disclosing them in the patch notes. A breakdown of everything included in the December 6 update can be found below, including the full patch notes. Playlist and map-mode updates With the return of the Shoot House 24/7 playlist, Crash 24/7 has been removed. It had initially been added to promote the newest map in Modern Warfare, a remake of the iconic Crash from the original CoD 4: MW game, but players apparently prefer Shoot House much more. Night maps have been removed from Hardcore modes, while Grazna Raid and Arklov Peak were both added to Hardcore TDM, with the latter also being added to Hardcore Headquarters. Read More: CoD community frustrated over MW 2XP tokens – Docks was introduced back into the Gunfight map rotation after it had been removed due to a ridiculous visual glitch that caused a massive cargo ship to inexplicably appear crashing into the map. General fixes The cargo ship glitch Docks was one of eight issues that were addressed with this update. Another major one was a severe glitch with the AK-47 that allowed players to intentionally crash entire matches by using an equipped grenade launcher and the Fully Loaded perk. The full patch notes are available below, as provided by Infinity Ward on Reddit. Modern Warfare Dec 6 update patch notes WHAT’S NEW: Shoot House 24/7 is back! (replaces Crash 24/7) – Removed night maps from Hardcore modes – Added Docks back into Gunfight map rotation – Added Grazna Raid and Arklov Peak to Hardcore TDM – Added Arklov Peak to Hardcore Headquarters – GENERAL FIXES: When attempting to view weapon details of a weapon in the Missions tab, players will be kicked back to the main menu. Modern Warfare December 10 patch notes – new game modes, updates, more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare December 10 patch notes – new game modes, updates, more Infinity Ward released another game settings update in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on December 10, adding Infected and Gunfight O.S.P to multiplayer and some other changes for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Another week, another update in Modern Warfare, as Infinity Ward continue to add more content and make changes to their 2019 Call of Duty game. This December 10 patch is part of the recently-launched Season 1, which introduced a lot of new content but saved some to be released periodically throughout the season. The next wave of new content has now been added in the shape of the new multiplayer mode Infected and Gunfight variant On Site Procurement (O.S.P) The update also includes some other playlist changes, including Aniyah Palace added to the Ground War playlist as well as some additions to Hardcore. Infected and Gunfight O.S.P added Infected is a survival party game mode that pits a team of infected players against survivors, with games ending when either everyone has been infected or the time runs out with at least one surviving player remaining. Gunfight O.S.P. is a variant of the 2v2 mode that requires players to find and pick up weapons and items around the map rather than spawning in with a pre-determined loadout each round. As a result of these modes being added, two have been removed, with Infected replacing Reinforce and Gunfight O.S.P replacing the regular version. Other playlist changes Aniyah Palace, which had been just a regular multiplayer map up to this point, was added to Ground War, likely because its massive size makes it playable in the large-scale mode. As for Hardcore, three new modes/playlists were added, including Free-for-All, the Night Vision Goggles (NVG) Moshpit, and Shoot House 24/7, which was recently brought back in the December 6 update. Modern Warfare December 10 patch notes Here are the full patch notes for the December 10 game settings update as provided by Infinity Ward on Reddit. WHAT’S NEW: Gunfight: OSP (replaces Gunfight) – Infected (replaces Reinforce) – New Ground War map, Aniyah Palace – Hardcore Additions: FFA – NVG Moshpit (TDM, Kill Confirmed, Headquarters, Domination) – Shoot House 24/7 (TDM, Kill Confirmed, Headquarters, Domination) –

Modern Warfare Dec 31 patch notes – new mode, playlist update, more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare Dec 31 patch notes – new mode, playlist update, more Call of Duty developers Infinity Ward have released one final Season 1 update for Modern Warfare in 2019, and it introduced a new multiplayer mode, bringing back the fan-favorite Shoot House 24/7 playlist, and more. The launch of Season 1 in Modern Warfare on December 3 marked the start of what has been the biggest post-launch content drop in Call of Duty history. As part of that, Infinity Ward have released updates every week since then adding more Season 1 content. The December 31 update is a lot smaller than any of the previous ones, probably because all of the developers are off for the holidays. This patch has introduced the multiplayer game mode Grind, replacing Drop Zone, which was added in the December 24 update. It’s also brought back the ever-popular Shoot House 24/7 in place of the Shoot the Ship playlist. A breakdown of this update is available below, including the official patch notes as provided by Infinity Ward. New multiplayer mode – Grind Not to be confused with the iconic Black Ops 2 DLC map of the same name, Grind is a multiplayer game mode in Call of Duty that was first introduced in Ghosts and then featured again in Infinite Warfare. It’s very similar to Kill Confirmed, except instead of getting points right away when collecting enemy tags, players must first deposit all of the tags they collect to an objective zone marked on the map, which rotates and is never in the same spot for too long. The more tags someone collects, the more points they earn when finally ‘cashing them in.’ The danger of trying to collect too many tags before depositing, however, is that players drop all of the undeposited tags they’re carrying when eliminated, as well as an additional one for their own life. Other playlist changes The popular Shoot House 24/7 playlist has been brought back, replacing Shoot the Ship that had been featured for about a week. Shoot House 2/47 has undoubtedly been the most popular playlist in Modern Warfare so far, and even after they combined it with Shipment for Shoot the Ship, it seems that they got enough feedback to bring it back. The only other change in multiplayer was Snowfight being removed from the Gunfight. The variant, added on December 24, replaced weapons in snowballs in the 2v2 mode, so opposing players could only eliminate each other by hitting them with balls of snow. Modern Warfare Dec 31 patch notes Playlist update! – Grind is now live! (replaces Drop Zone) – Shoot House 24/7 is back! (replaces Shoot the Ship) – Removed Snowfight#ModernWarfare— Infinity Ward (@InfinityWard) December 31, 2019 This is the final Modern Warfare update of 2019. While the release date for the next patch hasn’t yet been announced, it’ll likely be on January 7, 2020, following Infinity Ward’s schedule of releasing new Season 1 content every Tuesday.

Modern Warfare Dec 24 patch notes: Shipment x Shoot House, new modes, more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare Dec 24 patch notes: Shipment x Shoot House, new modes, more Infinity Ward have released another content drop in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for Season 1, including a Shipment x Shoot House 24/7 playlist, new Gunfight and multiplayer modes, another XP boost promo, and more. The December 24 update was the fourth installment of the ongoing Season 1 for Modern Warfare, continuing what is the biggest post-launch content drop in Call of Duty history. The update added a new Gunfight mode called Snowfight, a multiplayer mode called Drop Zone, and, perhaps most importantly, a 24/7 playlist featuring Shipment and Shoot House, which players had been begging for since Shipment was added. It also kicked off another XP boost promo for the Christmas period. Players will get Double XP and Double Tiers earn rate until Friday, December 27 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. Read More: MW devs provide update on killfeed fixes – A breakdown of what’s included in this update is available below, including the full official patch notes. New modes – Snowfight and Drop Zone Snowfight is a new Gunfight variant that can only be played on the new Winter Docks man, which was added in last week’s v1.12 update. In this mode, snowballs replace weapons, so players will have to throw snowballs to eliminate the opposing team. The second new mode added is Drop Zone, which is a regular multiplayer playlist. In Drop Zone, players are rewarded even more for playing the objective than other standard objective-based game modes. In fact, the only way to earn Killstreaks in this is to continually hold the drop zone until one arrives via Care Package to that location. New cosmetic bundle – Mad Chemist Following the update, the new ‘Mad Chemist’ Featured Bundle of cosmetic items was added to the in-game store. Priced at 2,400 CoD Points, Mad Chemist includes nine total items, including an Operator skin, two gun variants, a melee weapon, watch, emblem, Operator quip, finishing move, and two tier skips in the Battle Pass. Modern Warfare December 24 update patch notes Playlist update! Drop Zone (replaced Infected, which is now in the Quick Play filter) – Snowfight (Replaced Cranked) – Shoot the Ship: All Shoot House. All Shipment. All the time. – 2XP – 2X Tiers – From everyone at Infinity Ward, Happy Holidays!

Modern Warfare day one patch notes: mini-map, weapon buffs, spawns, more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare day one patch notes: mini-map, weapon buffs, spawns, more Call of Duty developers Infinity Ward have unveiled the launch day patch notes for Modern Warfare, and we’re here to make sure you’re caught up on all of the changes. Modern Warfare is starting to release around the world, and players are able to access the game for the first time since playing the Beta back in mid-September. On October 24, Infinity Ward posted what are officially the first-ever patch notes for MW, outlining all of the changes they made between the Beta version and the full game. As expected, with the Beta being so limited and full of issues and complications, there were a plethora of important adjustments and fixes the developers have implemented. Read More: How to lean while aiming in Modern Warfare – You can find all of the details about the changes below, including the full patch notes as provided by Infinity Ward. Spawn fixes Spawns were a huge issue in Modern Warfare during the Beta, and were high up on the list of things that most players complained about. Thus, the developers made it a priority to resolve spawns and implemented several major fixes that will hopefully improve how they work in-game. Firstly, the major problem where players would spawn directly on enemies, called “edge case scenarios,” has been fixed. Furthermore, spawn logic has been adjusted to improve quality, and more spawns have been added to provide players with more options. How mini-map will work in regular modes The mini-map was another hot topic of contention during the Beta, even more so than spawns, and Infinity Ward were heavily criticized for removing it from the main HUD. They ultimately brought it back during the first Beta weekend, and it looks like that’s the version that will be used in the full version of the game. Read More: 250+ cosmetics leaked in Modern Warfare – In the core default Multiplayer modes, everyone will have a mini-map at their disposal, but enemy firing will not show up on it unless the player or team have a UAV up. The one change the did make, however, is that the zoom has been “pulled out a bit” in order to help players see more of their surroundings. Weapon balancing In terms of weapon balancing, the developers didn’t go into much detail about what they changed with the guns in the game. All they said was that the weapons “received a lot of love since the Beta,” with a special emphasis on pistols and shotguns. This likely means that the weapons which were perceived to be noticeably weaker than they should have been, such as the two classes mentioned, have been buffed to improve their viability. You can check the full patch notes below, as they were posted on Reddit: Day One Patch Notes, Updates, and Intel! We’re almost there! Modern Warfare launches in a few hours and soon you’ll be able to hop into Campaign, Special Ops, and Multiplayer. Watching the game light up across the globe is so exciting and we’re happy to have all of you along for the ride and to celebrate with us. You’ll be able to earn and unlock exclusive gear and XP for both Multiplayer and Special Ops when you play through the Campaign as well, so don’t skip out! Plus, on Friday night, be sure to grab some of your friends for Ground War! Now, since Beta, we’ve made a TON of fixes to the game. Below are patch notes for fixes we’ve been working on with the help of your feedback: GENERAL FIXES Spawning in Core Multiplayer: Fixed edge case scenarios with spawning on enemies – Adjusted spawn logic to improve spawn quality. We’ve also added more spawns to increase your options. We will continue to improve this map by map post-launch – – Ground War: Added more fallback spawns to FOBs if the flag has too many enemies – Improved safety checking for spawning on Squadmates (is still dangerous, but the UI will notify you of this!) – Added spawning on Squadmates while in vehicles – Neutral tanks and helicopters now show up in the Spawn Selection screen – Helicopters now have flares to help manage incoming missiles – If all flags are captured by one team, you’ll go into Defcon to win so protect those flags! – Fix for an exploit that was allowing players (and therefore teammates) to spawn under the map – – Lighting: Brightened characters in dark areas across many maps – – Low Health Visuals: Now brightens up in the middle of the screen instead of darkening – – Weapon Balance: In general, weapons received a lot of love since the Beta. Most notably shotguns and pistols. – – Equipment: Enemy claymores now have larger, visible lasers – Reviving a teammate near a friendly claymore could cause the claymore to explode, resulting in a suicide – – Mini-Map: Now on by default across core multiplayer and Ground War. Enemy firing does not show up on the mini-map unless a team UAV is active – Map zoom is pulled out a bit to help with player awareness – – Killstreaks: VTOL Jet adjusted to not target players though rooftops – Fix for the Juggernaut Suit not spawning out of a crate. Another fix was deployed to prevent the mask from staying on the player after you have died as the Juggernaut and respawned – After using the Cruise Missile, player character models were sometimes stuck in a lean after using the streak – – Screen tearing on character and weapon models on Xbox – Impact damage of lethals/tacticals and the ammo box were causing instant kills – Adjustments to the descriptions in Gunsmith – Fix for a bug where the wrong input would be shown for players in a party – Fix for a bug where a door could open in the opposite direction of the player’s movement – Footsteps – Footstep tuning of volume fall off distance, mixing volume and occlusion settings – Placing Deployable Cover on stairs could prevent teammates from being able to mantle or crouch under, blocking paths**.** – Various audio tuning and fixes for executions and weapons – Players were able to spam the crouch button while moving creating a ‘snaking’ effect. – PC SPECIFIC Crouch and prone transition animations have been smoothed out for high FPS – ADS Sensitivity options can now be saved when using KBM – Double-tapping the sticks now always triggers the Tactical Sprint when using a gamepad on PC – Fixed blurriness in various situations – Ping widget is now showing the correct latency value – Added depth of field option in the Graphics options – Added HDR support – Added NVIDIA Highlight support in MP – Global performance improvements and stability fixes – ADS transition animations have been smoothed out for high FPS – Adjusted stand-to-prone timing for KBM versus gamepads – Player no longer loses sprint functionality by holding down sprint keybind and the move keybind while respawning – FOV Slider setting reverting to default after loading into the map. –

Modern Warfare criticized for “pay to win” Warzone weapons – Dexerto
Modern Warfare criticized for “pay to win” Warzone weapons Infinity WardModern Warfare developers have been criticized for making the game’s best weapons, the Grau 5.56 and the Bruen Mk9, extremely difficult to unlock in Warzone, with some even labeling it ‘pay-to-win.’ Following the latest weapon balance changes on June 29, the Bruen Mk9 and the Grau 5.56 have come out on top, quickly becoming the go-to options for tons of Warzone players and content creators. However, unlike many other weapons in the game, both of these guns have been added post-launch and require players to complete some difficult tasks to unlock them. To unlock the Grau you need to eliminate five players with an assault rifle in a minute, 25 times, and for the Bruen, you will have to get three LMG kills when an enemy is near a smoke, 15 times. The Grau and the Bruen’s tasks are infinitely easier in Modern Warfare’s multiplayer mode, making them quite difficult for free-to-play Warzone players to complete. These challenges and the latest changes faced a lot of criticism, something also highlighted by Forbes. These pick-of-the-bunch weapons had been “effectively paywalled,” because it’s so much easier to unlock them by paying $60 to access the full Modern Warfare game. the bruen and the grau are best guns on the game and sadly we can’t get them due to impossible requirements i don’t own moderne warfare i only play warzone it’s supposed to be free and i support the game by buying the battlepass i am not interested in buying 60 eur game this is impossible!! fix pls byu/anasszniti inCODWarzone As these weapons can take quite a while to unlock through Warzone’s playlists, players such as u/anasszniti have claimed that they have a significant disadvantage against those who have purchased the full Modern Warfare title and that they would need to do the same to keep up. “The Bruen and the Grau are best guns on the game and sadly we can’t get them due to impossible requirements,” they explained, “I don’t own Modern Warfare, I only play Warzone it’s supposed to be free.” Another Warzone player u/frank-ocean- also expressed their frustrations with the “pay to win” weapons, suggesting that the developers should add Warzone specific challenges or they will “hurt their player base in the long run.” Infinity Ward has not commented on the debate around these weapons and how they’re unlocked. But, they have revealed plans to add more LTMs in Warzone, such as Rumble, which can make these challenges a bit easier outside of regular multiplayer.

Modern Warfare cosplayer becomes Spetsnaz with Bale outfit – Dexerto
Modern Warfare cosplayer becomes Spetsnaz with Bale outfit Inzzen (Instagram) / ActivisionInzzen Cosplay is back with yet another Modern Warfare cosplay, this time rocking the popular Spetsnaz Operator, Bale, in their Darkness skin as part of the ‘Lights Out’ bundle. Modern Warfare is full to the brim with Operators that represent either the Coalition or Allegiance forces in-game. The Spetsnaz is arguably one of the most recognizable factions within the franchise, given that it featured back in the original Modern Warfare. Dmitry Bale, Minotaur Bale, Rodion and Nikto each represent the Spetsnaz, with the Bale brothers being among the most popular Operators in the game. In fact, as part of Season Three’s Lights Out bundle, Dmitry Bale received his very own ‘Darkness’ skin, which was immediately a fan-favorite. The Darkness skin proved so popular, that Inzzen Cosplay decided to use his creative talents to spawn the skin into real life. Complete with the trademark armor satchel, this cosplay looks like a carbon copy of Dmitry Bale’s popular skin. While the armor satchel is no doubt the centerpiece, the blacked-out Gorka is a staple part of the outfit and really brings the look together. If you look closely, Inzzen has clearly paid attention to detail throughout the entire outfit, with the ammo pouch and helmet appearing like an exact replica of how it does in-game. https://www.instagram.com/p/CBsxVeBHnTR/ This isn’t the first time Inzzen has dipped his toes into recreating Spetsnaz Operators, as he has previously produced a spot-on rendition of Nikto — Ghost’s Season 2 antagonist. What do you think of Inzzen’s recreation of Bale’s Darkness skin? The military-inspired cosplayer has most definitely gone lights out with this rendition of the popular Spetsnaz Operator.

Modern Warfare console players demand major feature to help vs PC – Dexerto
Modern Warfare console players demand major feature to help vs PC AcitivisonWhen Infinity Ward flicked the switch on crossplay with Modern Warfare, PC players were given a major graphics advantage… And now players want a slide of the FOV cake! Modern Warfare took the Call of Duty franchise to new heights in more ways than one. Alongside introducing a season-based model for in-game progression and content delivery, Infinity Ward added crossplay into the mix. While there are many benefits to cross-platform gaming, there are numerous nuances that benefit respective platforms. For example, there is the age-old debate of the role of aim assist on console and just how much that benefits those on the sticks versus PC players. While console players have aim assist to compensate for the unnatural feeling of aiming with thumbsticks as opposed to the trusty keyboard and mouse, PC players have a Field of View (FOV) slider. What is a FOV slider, you may ask? Essentially, PC players currently have the option to alter their perspective of how Modern Warfare appears — enabling a more zoomed-in version or a wider viewing angle to suit the needs of a player. The absence of this feature on a console has got plenty riled up on the Modern Warfare subreddit, who have stated their case for the FOV slider. The Reddit user made reference to other notable AAA titles, such as Titanfall and Battlefield, and how the feature is available on both the PC and console variants of EA’s hit games. Essentially, the crux of the debate is that console players who are currently pitted against PC players are currently at a disadvantage — given that they have the option to see more of the map at any given time in comparison to a console players fixed FOV. However, one Redditor didn’t appear too hopeful in their response, stating: “Not to be a downer but there are thousands of this same post for every subreddit Call of Duty has ever had… The fact of the matter is, Activision won’t do it. They don’t care if other companies do it.” While, yes, the reality is that other rival games such as Battlefield and Apex Legends offer the ability to customize FOV, Activision has stuck to their guns with Modern Warfare regardless of crossplay. The fact of the matter is, there may be an inherent hardware restriction on consoles which would impact frame-rate when a wider FOV is selected due to the strain this would place on the graphics processor. As such, with crossplay seemingly here to stay, there might be scope to embed an FOV slider in the next generation of consoles… Especially since both have significantly better hardware specifications, according to recent leaks.

New data shows why Modern Warfare lag could be worse than Black Ops 4 – Dexerto
New data shows why Modern Warfare lag could be worse than Black Ops 4 ActivisionA deep dive analysis into the Call of Duty Modern Warfare beta revealed huge problems in the game’s netcode, which “could be worse than Black Ops 4.” Infinity Ward and Activision are gearing up to release their reimagining of the legendary Modern Warfare series on October 25, and have been giving players a taste of the action with a ton of chances to demo the title. Everything from guns, character models, settings, game physics and more have been impressing their fans, but some players’ experiences are being marred by the less-than-stellar performances experienced from wonky connections. But YouTuber ‘Battle(non)sense’ gave players a closer look into the netcode for the upcoming CoD title, “which should give us a good idea of what the final version will be like.” The results, however, weren’t encouraging as Battle(non)sense saw consistent trends that highlighted many flaws that can cause anything from network delays, in-game latency, and more. (Timestamp at 5:13 for mobile viewers) Right off the bat, the YouTuber noticed that the ping values he was reading in-game did NOT match up with what he was actually getting. But what was more worrying was that MW’s voice over IP solution uses a Peer-to-Peer system, which apparently made it impossible to prevent teammates from seeing his IP address even after disabling comms. When comparing the network delays for damage, gunfire, and movement in the MW beta, they were “much, much worse” compared to the result of Black Ops 4. Modern Warfare’s netcode favors the shooter. So aggressive players racking up kills might have noticed smooth gameplay. As for the people getting shot in the MW beta, you’ve probably “died behind cover or wondered why in the kill cam you sometimes didn’t fire a single shot even though you fired at least five shots before you died.” This could be attributed to the “way too long” network delays when getting shot at, since the network struggles to keep up with all the action. Modern Warfare is set for a huge worldwide release, but it seems like the teams at Activision and Infinity Ward should improve the network before the millions of players bombard their servers.

First Modern Warfare competitive ruleset announced: modes, maps and bans – Dexerto
First Modern Warfare competitive ruleset announced: modes, maps and bans Activision have revealed the first official competitive ruleset for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that will be used for the 2020 CDL esports season. The inaugural season of the Call of Duty League is set to kick off in late January, as the city, venue, and dates have already been confirmed for the launch weekend. With there being less than three months until the season starts, Activision finally announced on October 29 what many players had been impatiently waiting for – the official ruleset that will be used for the esports competitions. Below, you can find everything there is to know about the ruleset, including all of the maps and modes that will be in the rotation, the specific game settings for each mode, and everything that’s restricted from being used in matches. Keep in mind that this is only the first iteration of the ruleset, as even Activision themselves have said that changes will likely be made to it throughout the season, based on feedback from the CDL and players and coaches. Maps and Modes The three game modes that will be in the official rotation are Search & Destroy, Hardpoint, and Domination, which returns to competitive play for the first time in many years. S&D has a pool of seven maps, Hardpoint has six, and Domination has four. The four maps that will be featuring in all of the modes are Gun Runner, Hackney Yard, Rammaza, and St Petrograd, all of which are considered to be among the smaller maps in Modern Warfare. Restricted items As is usually the case every season, the restricted list for Modern Warfare’s competitive ruleset is full of weapons, attachments, kill-streaks, perks, equipment and field upgrades. In terms of weapons, all LMGs, shotguns, and Launchers are banned. Most of the banned attachments are from the underbarrel category, more specifically things that enhance the weapon beyond its normal function, such as attachable grenade launchers, shotguns, incendiaries, etc… In total, there are 12 kill-streaks on the list, as well as six perks: Overkill, High Alert, Kill Chain, Restock, Shrapnel, and Tracker. Equipment-wise, the usual suspects are all not allowed, as well as Stim, which many players were wondering whether or not would play a role in competitive again after its prevalence in Black Ops 4. Rounding off the list are Field Upgrades, which are also a new addition in Modern Warfare. There are five that are banned, leaving only Munitions Box, Dead Silence, Trophy System, and EMP Drone available for use. You can check out the full ruleset below, as provided by Activision on Reddit: Competitive Call of Duty rules adjust over time. The rules below do not represent the final competitive settings but an initial set of rules to kickoff the season. Competitive Settings V 1.0 have been developed in coordination between League Administration and representatives (players, coaches) of the Call of Duty League. With the game having been released last week, we recognize that our final map set will need to be further refined than what we’ll have in place for the first version of our ruleset. That said, we’ll be paying close attention to both pro and amateur player feedback to ensure the best map set by season launch. Maps and modes may change at a later date. Our pro player community is heavily involved in this process, and we look forward to narrowing down our settings a bit closer to the start of the season. Modern Warfare community raises incredible amount for Australian fires – Dexerto
Modern Warfare community raises incredible amount for Australian fires ActivisionThe Modern Warfare community answered Activision’s call of duty to help raise money for Australia bushfire relief, with the Call of Duty developers announcing $1.6 million will be donated to charity. Australia has been ravaged by bushfires over the last few months, claiming over 30 lives, destroying almost 2,000 homes, and scorching millions of acres of land. When the gaming community called on developers to take action and try and raise money for the communities devastated by the fires, players answered in droves. However, no community heeded the call louder than the Modern Warfare one, with Activision announcing they raised $1.6 million from the sale of the Outback Relief Pack over 20 days between January 11 and January 31. “Players and fans worldwide have come together to raise more than $1.6 million through the purchase of the ‘Outback Relief Pack’,” said David Hodgson, the Editorial Manager of Activision in a February 3 blog post. “These funds will help provide relief toward the devastating bushfires in Australia.” 100% of Activision’s net proceeds from the cosmetic pack, which included a Operator skin, a Sniper Rifle camo, and a cute Koala bear charm to attach to your weapon, were donated to Direct Relief to distribute on the company’s behalf. “Direct Relief has already started to provide much-needed emergency and health supplies in coordination with local aid groups as they respond to the pressing needs of millions of Australians affected by these tragic conditions,” he said. “”Together, the #CallofDuty community raises over $1.6 million dollars for Australian Bushfire Relief”” Details Here: https://t.co/KikTiU57un pic.twitter.com/GKet1IhUkO— Activision (@Activision) February 3, 2020 The donation from the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare developers represent the largest single contribution from the gaming community over the bushfire season, with Activision thanking players for their generosity. “We’re honored to help in this effort with the funds from the Outback Relief pack,” said Byron Geede, EVP of Call of Duty. “We thank everyone for their generosity, and we look forward to putting this donation into action.” Other developers chipped in where they could to help support fire-ravaged communities across Australia. Ubisoft’s Australia branch donated $30,000 on January 9, while Bungie put on their own fundraiser, which is still ongoing. The bushfire crisis has devastated communities across the nation and the scenes of loss are heartbreaking. We’ve heard the calls requesting we create in-game items to encourage donations, however this takes considerable development time and we feel immediate action is required. pic.twitter.com/7JPg0QPOqQ — Ubisoft ANZ (@UbisoftANZ) January 9, 2020 Streamers also mobilized their communities to do what they could. Australian streamer group The Click Crew put forward a huge $300,000 donation after a 36-hour livestream, which included contributions from the likes of Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys and Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel. Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins shocked fellow Fortnite content creator Lachlan Power with a $30,000 donation during his January 14 fundraiser, while Tyler ‘Trainwreckstv’ Niknam hosted a charity edition of his Scuffed Podcast, pulling in over $40,000. If you’d like to support communities rebounding after the bushfire crisis, you can donate to the Australian Red Cross or the Salvation Army.

Modern Warfare community praises Infinity Ward for battle pass gesture – Dexerto
Modern Warfare community praises Infinity Ward for battle pass gesture ActivisionInfinity Ward have received floods of praise for issuing a Modern Warfare player a refund after purchasing their Season One battle pass just before Season Two debuted. Ever since Modern Warfare’s public release in October 2019, Infinity Ward has received a ton of criticism for the number of issues that have cropped up since launch. While the developers have been working their way through the lengthy list of snags, they have also changed the progression system in Call of Duty to a season-based model — which works in tandem with their new content delivery framework. Since the road has been a bumpy one for Infinity Ward, they will be glad to receive some well deserved praise following a gesture made amid the recent season transition. One Redditor posted the gesture to the Modern Warfare subreddit, detailing how they had received a refund on their Season One battle pass after purchasing it shortly after Season Two going live. The message reads: “We identified that you purchased the Season 1 Battle Pass right as Season One ended and Season Two began. To ensure you get the most out of your purchase, we’re refunding your Season One Battle Pass purchase.” Moreover, the in-game message continued: “Your COD Points total should reflect this refund in-game. We hope you enjoy all the amazing content available in the Season Two Battle Pass.” Plenty of fellow Redditors went on to praise Infinity Ward’s goodwill in the thread, with one user echoing the thoughts of many with their comment: “Seriously, this is unexpected, and a really nice thing that they did. Thanks Infinity Ward and Activision for having this system in place.” However, while the player did receive a full refund, they may have also discovered a loop-hole in the season-based content system… When asked whether they kept Mara (the Coalition Operator) after their refund, they responded saying: “Surprisingly yes. I already finished my [battle pass] but never purchased it until 30 minutes before [Season Two] started.” Infinity Ward may wise up before the end of Season Two, though, so don’t expect to keep your hard-earned items if you plan on attempting a similar trick.

Modern Warfare community lashes out at Activision for Black Ops Cold War merge – Dexerto
Modern Warfare community lashes out at Activision for Black Ops Cold War merge ActivisionWith the excitement of the new release taking up the spotlight, Modern Warfare players feel as though their experience has been “actively” made worse in order to promote Black Ops Cold War. With the annual cycle of the CoD franchise, a new release is guaranteed around November each year. Typically, this sees a vast majority of the player base relocating over to the new title. However, the transition from 2019 to 2020 was a little different. For the first time in history, two titles merged thanks to Warzone. The F2P battle royale gave a common ground for both games to come together. Though with the focus primarily on new weapons from BOCW in Season One, the MW community feels it’s been left behind. While a lack of new content and meaningful updates would be one thing, thousands of players argue the impact of BOCW is “actively making MW a bad experience.” With the integration of BOCW in Warzone, it’s safe to say that new weapons have dominated the conversation. From the controversial DMR to the must-pick MAC-10 SMG, these powerful guns are all but necessary to stay afloat. As a result, “MW players suffer simply to drive sales” for the new title. Infinity Ward’s time handling post-launch content has reportedly come to an end. With a lack of new playlists, “hackers galore, no anti-cheat, and no feedback from [developers],” nothing can be done except to “wait for the next game.” One of the biggest talking points is the fact that MW heavily advertises BOCW in-game. Despite the CoD community often moving ahead with the new title each year, MW players wanting to stick with their favorite title have been ‘punished,’ according to the community. Countless players chimed in with their own experiences since the release of BOCW. Most of which echoed the same sentiment. “Starting to feel like this game has been abandoned,” one player said. “We should be on Season 8 for MW,” another added. Regardless of which side you fall on, there’s no denying we’re in a new era for the franchise. Two games have never merged quite like this before and with Season Two on the way, this coexistence doesn’t appear to be going anywhere soon. There’s no telling if sizeable updates will hit MW throughout 2021. Though with the focus now well and truly on BOCW, it seems less likely with each passing day. More Call of Duty Content

These CDL franchise skin concepts would be perfect for Modern Warfare – Dexerto
These CDL franchise skin concepts would be perfect for Modern Warfare As the competitive Call of Duty scene transitions to a franchise-based league in 2020, just how Activision will support the professional scene from within Modern Warfare itself, remains to be seen. One popular designer has taken it upon himself and showcased how esports weapon camos could look in the upcoming release. Releasing in just a few days on October 25, the Call of Duty community is avidly anticipating the latest installment in the FPS franchise. With the drip-feed of franchise announcements leading up to the game’s release, one creator has gotten ahead of the pack and dedicated his efforts to showcasing a potential esports weapon camo in Modern Warfare. Unveiled on October 20, the Envy owned franchise revealed the blue and gold Dallas Empire branding with a logo that subtly pays homage to the parent organization. Read more: CoD pro Huke suspended from Twitter – Just one day later in an October 21 post, popular community content creator ‘vLionMan’ displayed a first look at a potential weapon camo design for the newly announced franchise. .@DallasEmpire Modern Warfare camo. I’ll make better camos with the meta weapons once that is clear. (Last time I post this, keep noticing tiny mistakes and it’s tilting). pic.twitter.com/xQyECOqDDA — McGregor | Lion  (@vLionMan) October 21, 2019 The unique design covers every aspect of the weapon in focus, from an entirely golden scope to the team name being plastered on the hilt of the gun. “Wait dude this is FIRE,” Call of Duty veteran and Dallas Empire member James ‘Clayster’ Eubanks responded to the post, evidently supporting the movement to get team camos in Modern Warfare. Known predominantly for his Call of Duty World League trading cards, this isn’t the first time that the designer has created weapon camos in Call of Duty. He ensured that plenty of additional weapon designs will be coming in the near future as more brands are revealed. Read more: Shroud’s plan for Modern Warfare is simple – “I’ll make better camos with the meta once that is clear,” he stated. With the New York and Los Angeles-based franchises having recently unveiled their respective branding, it’s only a matter of time until each and every brand is unveiled in full. The last time that we saw official esports weapon skins in a Call of Duty title was with Sledgehammer Games’ WWII. Powerhouse brands like OpTic Gaming and eUnited were represented, with fans able to don camos of their favorite teams across all weapons. Whether Infinity Ward will reinstitute esports-centric weapon skins in 2019’s Modern Warfare remains to be seen. However, if the response to this community design is anything to go off, pro players and fans alike are highly supportive of getting the new franchises in-game.

Modern Warfare to clean killfeed and fix tanks in next updates – Dexerto
Modern Warfare to clean killfeed and fix tanks in next updates Infinity Ward developers for Call of Duty Modern Warfare have confirmed that the next series of updates to the multiplayer shooter will focus on cleaning up the cluttered killfeed and nerfing the tanks in Ground War. One step at a time, Modern Warfare developers are slowly but surely patching and fixing the problems. In just the past week, as of November 14, the developers released two updates in 1.07 and 1.08, and are already talking about what their next fixes will be. David Mickner, a multiplayer designer for Modern Warfare, confirmed that the next update would feature a major alteration to the current feed. The feed will no longer have messages that say which players were promoted, saved, or avenged. This upcoming pass removes prints to the obit such as: ‘Player promoted’, ‘avenged you’, ‘saved you’. Collats with bullets on the same frame will go back to the classic feed. The penetration icon will show on single kills. We’ll continue looking at obit issues. #ModernWarfare https://t.co/8pmzhJabSt — David Mickner (@DavidMickner) November 14, 2019 Also, the feed for collateral kills will be adjusted to a more classic feel to reduce clutter. The news prompted tons of positive responses from MW players, most notably ones who primarily play sniper classes. Most recently, the Modern Warfare devs nerfed the 725 shotgun and the claymores, two weapons that sported high usage rates that were frustrating the majority of the MW community. But the 725 may have inadvertently been made even more powerful. While the 725 is rumored to be nerfed again potentially, director Joe Cecot acknowledged that the tank in Ground War needs a spot on the nerf list as well. https://twitter.com/JoeCecot/status/1194881815292440577 Currently, the tanks run with limitless ammo and no way of running out of fuel, and certain maps in Ground War allow for tanks to camp along the mountainside and shell the spawn points relentlessly. Rocket launchers seemingly have little effect, and several fans are clamoring for a nerf of some kind, preferably to blast radius or fire rate. Some fans are suggesting boundaries for where the tank can go, or a fuel system so it can’t run forever. Cecot also noted that a fix to collateral sniper shot themselves could be coming shortly. Cecot and the MW team have been very busy the past few weeks fixing several issues with the game, including the previously mentioned 725 shotgun and claymores, weapon balancing, footstep and chatter noise, and more. Several of those issues have been called out by pro players, who will be the focus of the Call of Duty League when it kicks off in January.

Modern Warfare CDL ruleset stops working days before launch event – Dexerto
Modern Warfare CDL ruleset stops working days before launch event MLG / ActivisionDue to a patch released on January 22 – just two days before the launch of the Call of Duty League – it appears the CDL ruleset in-game isn’t working properly. The event is the first in what is to be a multi-hundred million dollar investment, but it may be getting off to a rocky start if they can’t come up with a solution to the issues the January 22 update has raised. After making a number of significant changes – including “clamping down” on the headshot multiplier, changes to flag capturing in Domination and the Dead Silence field upgrade – it appears players may not be able to use any of it after all. After Chris ‘Parasite’ Duarte reached out to the devs on Twitter to explain that “the multiplier for multiple players capturing an objective isn’t working still,” Michael ‘Spacely’ Schmale added on to the tweet with his own issue, suggesting the patch is causing more struggles than initially thought. He says that “if we have to set up the rules manually and not play ‘CDL Domination’ like we just tried, the headshot multiplier comes back along with the pre-patch dead silence.” This means that whether they set it up themselves or play on the new patch, they will be playing “two completely different games” regardless. Major issue because if we have to setup the rules manually and not play “”CDL Domination”” like we just tried, the headshot multiplier comes back along with the pre patch dead silence, literally two complete different games. — SpaceLy – Mike (@SpaceLy) January 22, 2020 Parasite and Spacely weren’t the only players to express their disappointment or ask questions about the patch. Peirce ‘Gunless’ Hillman of the Chicago Huntsmen simply said “$300m league and we are playing on a patch that we haven’t played a second of for the start of the CDL.” 300 Million dollar league and we are playing on a patch that we haven’t played a second of for the start of the CDL….. — Peirce (@Gunless) January 22, 2020 Meanwhile, Dallas Empire’s James ‘Clayster’ Eubanks took a different outlook, saying that “if you’ve paid attention to the history this happens over 50% of the events.” He went on to say that CoD is about adapting so “here’s to the team that can adapt the best!” Yes, we wanted a majority of the changes that came with the patch. No, we didn’t want it two days beforehand, but if you’ve paid attention to the history this happens over 50% of the events. CoD is about adapting so here’s to the team that can adapt the best! — Clayster (@Clayster) January 22, 2020 At the time of writing, developers have not responded to Parasite’s original tweet or mentioned any intended fixes for CDL rulesets on the new patch. It seems most likely that the teams in Minnesota will simply play on the new patch and have to overlook the issues with capturing the Domination flag for now. Regardless, it’s likely that fans will be excited to see top-level gameplay when the event kicks off on January 24. After a few months since the last major Call of Duty event, it’s likely viewers will just be happy to have Call of Duty esports back on their screens.

Modern Warfare campaign equipment could solve Warzone’s camper problem – Dexerto
Modern Warfare campaign equipment could solve Warzone’s camper problem Infinity WardWarzone players are demanding a simple piece of Modern Warfare’s campaign equipment be added to the battle royale to combat camping issues. While Infinity Ward’s 150-player battle royale mode tries to push players together and alleviate a slow, camping playstyle, many still tend to bunker down. Players often ‘camp’ on top of buildings, second stories of houses, or even on the often-frustrating Stadium. A piece of equipment utilized in Modern Warfare’s campaign won’t fix all of the camping problems overnight, but it could certainly help. Which piece of equipment needs to be added in Warzone? Throughout the 2019 Call of Duty campaign, players use a wide array of tactical and lethal equipment, from airstrikes to ammo crates and more. Plenty of these features are present in both multiplayer, and Warzone too. Yet, one piece of equipment has remained exclusive to the story mode — the ‘tac ladder’. Now, avid Warzone players are clamoring for single-use extendable equipment to make its way to the battle royale too. It may seem simple on the surface, but this equipment could shake up the tempo of any Warzone match as players find new entry-points into Verdansk’s many buildings. How could this equipment change the game? Instead of scaling up a flight of indoor stairs, walking into traps placed by the enemy team, the tac-ladder could give you a new way in. If a squad is bunkering down inside a house, placing this ladder outside could see you climbing through a window. This would further incentivize players to continue moving around the map, rather than staying put. Rather than pre-aiming a single angle as players rush upstairs, camping teams would have to be wary of enemies rushing through windows as well. Supposedly it was worked on for Modern Warfare’s multiplayer, but never saw the light of day as it’s “much more difficult to code than you’d think,” according to Redditor ‘thebromitch.’ Perhaps the tac-ladder could fall into the pre-existing equipment spot on player loadouts, replacing stun or decoy grenades. It may also be more balanced in the killstreak category, as a purchasable item in Warzone. There’s no denying that it would certainly force a new playstyle. Players would be able to deal with campers much easier than ever before.

Modern Warfare campaign and multiplayer trailer dates potentially leaked – Dexerto
Modern Warfare campaign and multiplayer trailer dates potentially leaked Infinity Ward / ActivisionCall of Duty players might well have just been handed their first indication of when Infinity Ward will drop Modern Warfare trailers for both single player and multiplayer. Infinity Ward’s latest installment to the Modern Warfare franchise is set for an October 25 launch and has quickly become one of the most highly anticipated games of 2019, since it was first revealed on March 30. While not too much has been given away so far, outside of an initial launch trailer, a prominent leaker has stepped forward with a suggestion that not only are two more trailers in the works, but just around the corner as well. Twitter user Victor__Z has emerged as one of the most accurate CoD leakers in 2019, after first claiming that the game was not going to be called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, as many had suggested at the time, as well as predicting some massive multiplayer changes back in March. Now, though, the leaker looks to have given fans a timeframe of when to expect to see both the single player and multiplayer trailers, and they reckon it will be mid-July for those announcements. That’s not that only bit of potential news to be revealed by the Twitter user, either. Victor claims that there will also be a large-scale conference on multiplayer towards the end of July too – according to the translation. As is always the case with leaked, or rumored, information such as this, it’s best to take it all with a pinch of salt until an actual confirmation is made by the game’s developer. With that being said, accurate leak or not, fans will be expecting more information in the coming months regardless, as we approach that October release date.

Modern Warfare camera bug punishes players using Tac Laser attachment – Dexerto
Modern Warfare camera bug punishes players using Tac Laser attachment You should think twice before attaching a Tac Laser to their favorite weapons in Modern Warfare as a new glitch is punishing players for aiming with the unique laser sight. A number of devastating issues have plagued Infinity Ward’s latest iteration in the Call of Duty franchise since its release on October 25. Dedicated players have grown frustrated over the low tick-rate servers, and Skill-Based Matchmaking systems have been the focal point of much controversy. Beyond that however, the moment to moment gameplay itself is riddled with bugs and oversights aplenty. Further adding to the list of outrageous flaws in Modern Warfare, a new glitch has been uncovered that proves the Tac Laser attachment is an outright detriment in the midst of combat. Demonstrated throughout a December 15 match, one particularly unlucky player that goes by the name of ‘Xeccess,’ discovered how the Tac Laser attachment can actually be the sole factor that leads to your downfall in combat. Taking up a defensive position behind a red shipping container on Shoot House, the player mounted their assault rifle and waited patiently for an enemy to walk into an ideal field of view. Intentionally focusing their aim at a nearby wall rather than the gap, the player intended to obscure their Tac Laser in order to hide their position. Unfortunately, the game had other plans as the enemy came storming forward and instantly picked off the mounted player. As the KillCam quickly revealed, the prominent green laser was not obscured from the opposing point of view, leading to a quick and easy elimination. While the attachment is supposed to increase accuracy while aiming down sights, this ridiculous bug highlights how broken the Tac Laser can be when attempting to mount any given weapon. Similarly prevalent throughout the Night Vision Goggles mode that was newly introduced with Modern Warfare, laser sights are often presented inaccurately for various players on the dimly lit maps. Rather than appearing identical for all who see it, the weapon attachment can easily give away enemy positioning without them even realizing, as was demonstrated in the aforementioned highlight. “Noticed this in the NVG mode too. Pretty stupid,” Reddit user ‘Hartstockz’ chimed in, indicating how the Tac Laser bug isn’t exclusive to any singular weapon. Considering this bug seems prevalent throughout the game, it’s evident players should steer clear of the laser attachment until Infinity Ward addresses the issue and improves the accuracy of its trajectory. A useful tactic to keep in the back of your mind until the bug is patched, however, is if you spot a green laser in the midst of combat any time soon, it doesn’t necessarily mean your opponent knows it’s visible.

Modern Warfare bug reveals what Warzone in 3rd person would look like – Dexerto
Modern Warfare bug reveals what Warzone in 3rd person would look like Infinity WardWarzone is a totally first-person experience, but other battle royale’s like Fortnite and PUBG support third-person too – and this bizarre glitch in Modern Warfare has revealed what it could look like in Warzone. Because Warzone is based in the Call of Duty universe – specifically Modern Warfare, although it’s migrating to Black Ops Cold War in December too – the gameplay is built from the ground up for first-person. But, there have been some calls for a third-person mode, even just as an LTM, just to provide a fresh way to play the game. Players have previously found glitches in regular Modern Warfare multiplayer that show the game in a third-person view, but now we have our first look at what it would be like in the battle royale mode specifically. Warzone in 3rd person? Thanks to one lucky player, who goes by u/lIllIlIIlIIl on Reddit, we can see how exploring Downtown in 3rd person would appear. The player explains that when a teammate they were reviving quit the game, they were thrown into the new POV. “A teammate left while I picked him up (he was downed and left mid revive)” the player explained. From that moment, their gameplay was locked into a third-person perspective for the remainder of the round. Due to the chaos that the Ground War provides, especially on Downtown, it gives a really interesting view on what an official Warzone 3rd person view could look like. In the video, we see u/lIllIlIIlIIl running around the street of Downtown unable to use the magnification on his sniper rifle as the action of aiming down the sight just moves the camera over the character’s shoulder applying a slight zoom effect in typical TPS fashion. While historically a purely first-person shooter series, Call of Duty has had a couple of experiments with third-person game modes with Modern Warfare 2 providing a third-person playlist: Third Person Team Tactical. Modern Warfare while not having a similar game mode present, is not new to glitches of this nature. Earlier this year another Redditor posted a similar glitch which let the user play Survival mode in third-person on the Shoot House map. Surprisingly, this perspective is very fluid and might suggest that Infinity Ward put some work into the engine in order to make an official third-person Warzone a future reality.

Modern Warfare bug is stopping players from earning XP, camos & more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare bug is stopping players from earning XP, camos & more A new bug found in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare during the Christmas period has left fans astounded as they’re unable to rank up or make progress in-game. Modern Warfare has faced some criticism for a number of issues since launch in October 2019, but an inability to progress, earn XP, complete challenges and level up camos may be enough for some fans to get seriously annoyed. Much of the player base enjoys completing challenges and unlocking new cosmetics for their weapons, so this bug, if persistent, could halt some players’ grinds to complete the game in its entirety. Posting to Reddit on December 25, 2019, a number of users reported issues upgrading their weapon camos and earning XP after matches, with many claiming that they were receiving no progression at all regardless of how many games they played. One user posted a short video, in which you can see he earned over 8,000 score but made no XP progression on his general level or even on the battle pass, which players have to spend money on to get. Though the video evidence doesn’t prove that camos are not being earned, the poster and many users of the subreddit are reporting that their camo progress is non-existent with the current bug. Shortly after publishing the post received a lot of support and players experiencing the same issues, with one user saying “My whole lobby of 5 just had this for 2 games of hardcore Shoot the Ship. Nothing has been registering.” Another commenter simply believes the bug has ruined the game for them, saying: “Same way for me, no point in playing if you don’t get any XP/camo challenges counting.” One player believes it is a server issue and will likely be fixed within 24 hours. They said: “My guess is it’s a server issue and not connecting to your Activision account properly. Same thing happened in Apex [Legends] towards the beginning and everything was resolved without loss within 24hrs.” Despite the persistence of this bug, a number of players have suggested that their progression issues are being resolved, be it after they play a few games or after a certain amount of time. One user said that theirs is “all back to normal,” while another reported that their rank “came back mid-game.” Regardless, based on the new posts rolling into the subreddit, a lot of players are still experiencing issues with progression. It’s not yet clear what is causing this XP progression bug, but like one player said, other games have experienced this and they’ll likely get it fixed in due course and give everyone the progress that they’ve lost so far. Whether the devs know yet isn’t known, but we imagine a fix can’t be too far away.

Modern Warfare bug exposes Rust campers’ favorite glitched spot – Dexerto
Modern Warfare bug exposes Rust campers’ favorite glitched spot Infinity WardModern Warfare players have noticed a bug on Rust which could explain why so many campers are opting to stay put near the big oil tanker on the east side of the map. The tight-knit combat of Rust has been an iconic part of the Modern Warfare series. But the latest iteration of the map has a glaring weakness that lets players peer through one of the largest single objects on display. Getting close to the tanker on the southeast section of the squared battlefield will give players the chance to open up the sightlines by seeing through the oil tank. “Bug on Rust that needs exterminating,” user ‘RaZeFX’ said after showing the bug they had found. This glitch has popped in the game before. Though the issue seems to be giving players with lower graphics settings an advantage, as those with max settings reportedly can’t see through the tank. Furthermore, RaZeFX explained that his field of view (FOV) was at 110 with everything else being “set to its lowest possible setting, and anti-aliasing is disabled with vsync enabled.” The player was surprised to find the bug, seeing as it gave them a “clear view” of their opponents as they were walking up to their position. “I was leaning against [the oil tank] to jump out at two guys I heard approaching and then I saw it lol,” they explained. “It gives you a clear view through it.” There’s a ton of campers on Rust. The unforgiving map forces players to either stay actively moving to stay a step ahead of spawns or nestle and set up camp in a safe corner. This bug could explain why more players have been opting to stay on that side of the map, but it’s nothing that a quick Semtex or RPG could fix. Though RaZeFX sees how this spot could be “quite powerful” if it goes unaddressed by the Infinity Ward developers. If the glitched Rust spot gets enough traction, however, expect the Modern Warfare devs to patch this out as fast as possible to keep players from abusing it in game.

Atrocious Modern Warfare bug denies easy Execution kill – Dexerto
Atrocious Modern Warfare bug denies easy Execution kill Call of Duty: Modern Warfare introduced execution which is supposed to be a punishment for players caught unaware by an opponent – that is unless a bug comes in for the save. Infinity Ward’s latest title in the legendary CoD franchise has been a big success for the company, but the early goings on in the game have a lot of players frustrated because of the high volume of bugs and the like. Though a particularly jarring glitch was found by Reddit user ‘AuroraUnit117,’ who managed to get the jump on a player scoping down their sights. Naturally, this presented the chance for a free kill, though it didn’t exactly play out that way. After finding their prey, AuroraUnit chose to put a bit of style on the kill cam by opting for the Execution animation, thought the character models had a strange interaction with the nearby walls. The opponent was nestled near the corner of the room that had a bench lined up against the wall. Unfortunately for the executioner, when their character’s model picked up the opponent and proceeded with the body slam, it looks like there were a few too many obstructions that made the animation bug out. But instead of just robbing the player of the cool animation, both players came were left standing at the end of the play. Even though the two seemed to momentarily freeze from stunned confusion, the opponent had a reaction just a split second quicker than AuroraUnit. The other player dodged AuroraUnit’s gunfire, and followed it up with a quick shot from their Model 680, which instantly took them out. A member of the Infinity Ward team followed up the post with a comment of “Thank you for the video!” which has garnered 700 downvotes at the time of writing. Among other things, players have also been noticing bizarre spawns throughout matches which makes it hard to strategize during a game, as well as a problematic glitch that lets players see opponents’ nameplates through walls. There are a few things the Modern Warfare devs’ agenda to fix in the game, which will hopefully mean a major patch will be on its way soon.

Modern Warfare bug appears to reveal size of leaked Battle Royale map – Dexerto
Modern Warfare bug appears to reveal size of leaked Battle Royale map A glitch from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has seemingly given fans another look at the apparent battle royale map – and it looks absolutely huge. The prospect of having a battle royale mode in Modern Warfare has been mooted since before the game launched on October 25. Leakers were adamant that they had the details – including its map, release date, and a huge player count. While the game has since launched, Infinity Ward have remained silent on the prospect of adding the battle royale mode, despite the fact that another leaker dropped a huge bombshell of details with a data mine following an update to the game. However, it appears you can actually view the map in-game, provided the game decides to glitch out. In a post to the Modern Warfare subreddit, user Nateberg3 showcased a video of them floating high above a vast landscape thanks to an in-game error with a Spec Ops mission. From their eye in the sky vantage point, the Redditor was able to fully rotate around and get a good clean look at the huge map that looks set to become the battle royale playground. If parts of it look familiar, that’s because they are. Parts of the map are set to be made up of the Spec Ops locations, as well as parts of the huge Ground War maps – including the newly released Port of Verdansk. Unsurprisingly, the new map has apparently been given the simple name of ‘Port’ in the battle royale points of interest. Other things to note are the huge stadium – which is right below Nateberg3 – as well as the Gulag that can be seen at around the 15-second mark, and the small farm just before it, all of which are named locations in the leak. The Gulag itself is apparently set to play a role in the game’s respawn system – giving players a 1v1 opportunity to get back into the match, provided they can beat out a random opponent. Of course, with nothing in terms of a battle royale being confirmed by Infinity Ward, it’s always worth taking things with a pinch of salt until you’re playing it for yourself. However, if the most recent leak proves to be right and this is the actual battle royale map we’ve seen, fans could be in for one hell of a battle royale experience.

Modern Warfare developers cut major movement feature before launch – Dexerto
Modern Warfare developers cut major movement feature before launch Infinity WardCall of Duty fans remain inquisitive as to what Modern Warfare will look like on release but one feature has already been cut from the game. That new feature was called “Buddy Boost” which, as the name suggests, involved physically boosting a player on your team so they could reach otherwise inaccessible places. Unfortunately, or maybe not for some fans, the developers decided to cut the feature entirely as they felt players wouldn’t co-operate with each other as intended. It also left the booster too vulnerable to opposing players. Why Buddy Boost wouldn’t work The news surfaced in an interview via Prima Games, who spent some time with Multiplayer Map Design Director Jeffrey Smith and Animation Director Rigsby. Smith described the Buddy Boost feature as “badass if it worked” but acknowledged “it’s really hard to get some random person to co-operate with you.” Elaborating further, he said: “You have to let somebody kind of climb up you and get you up and they would get up there. But if you’re the one sitting on the wall waiting in a really awkward squat position.” Considering the trolling and general madness that can often, and invariably does occur in public Call of Duty games, it is hardly surprising they came to this decision. There is a silver lining though, as these inaccessible areas have now been opened up via other methods which should grant players plenty of options when traversing each map. More surprises to come? While the idea hasn’t come to fruition, it does show Infinity Ward are trying to incorporate unique ideas into Modern Warfare. They have already revealed the 2v2 Gunfight mode to much acclaim, as well as a 100+ player lobby for the Ground War mode. There is still over two months until the game is released on October 25 and there could be plenty more surprises along the way. Players may be able to find out about some of those potential surprises on September 12 when the Modern Warfare beta is available on PS4.

Modern Warfare breakdown shows how big August 11 gun changes really were – Dexerto
Modern Warfare breakdown shows how big August 11 gun changes really were Infinity WardThe Modern Warfare and Warzone August 11 patch tweaked four weapons in an all-new balance update, but the true extent of these changes was kept under wraps. Thankfully, a detailed breakdown reveals just how significant these gun adjustments really were. After a slight tease earlier in the week, Infinity Ward finally pushed a new balancing update live on August 11. The first major set of adjustments since Season 5 began, four key weapons were modified across standard multiplayer and the battle royale experience. The FAL, the Holger-26, the Bruen MK9, and the M91 were all targeted by the patch. Some were nerfed, others were buffed. However, the developers were quite vague in their wording. Instead of providing proper values, the official patch notes simply labeled these changes “increases” or “reductions” in certain statistics. Fortunately, the patch has already been dissected by the CoD community and the true extent of these changes has been uncovered. Here’s everything you need to know about the real impact of the August 11 update. How was the FAL changed? The FAL Assault Rifle was a powerful semi-automatic weapon prior to the new changes. The August 11 patch notes outlined two key adjustments for the gun. Increased headshot damage along with a reduction in close quarters damage. But how accurate was this description? Read More: CoD Black Ops Cold War easter egg solved – Overall, the maximum potential damage of the weapon has been from a close range has been reduced quite significantly. The FAL used to be able to deal 69 damage from within 20m. That has now dropped a whopping 25% to only 49 damage. This change doesn’t apply to body multipliers, however. So if you line your first shots at the body and then aim to the dome, the old max damage is still possible. How was the Holger-26 changed? Light Machine Guns haven’t been the most popular weapons in either Warzone or Modern Warfare. They’re a niche pick due to how drastically they slow your movement speed. The August 11 Holger-26 buffs looked to make this particular LMG more viable than ever before, however. An increase to ADS speed and the maximum damage range was applied in the latest patch. These changes are a little less significant than the aforementioned FAL tweaks. ADS speed was reduced by a mere 8%. Maximum damage range was bumped up to 1,900m, an increase of 12%. And the total possible range for the weapon was upped 6% to 2,800m. It’s extremely unlikely that you’ll ever be able to control LMG recoil from such insane ranges to begin with. But these subtle buffs should make the weapon a little more effective from afar. How was the Bruen MK9 changed? Similar to the Holger-26 adjustments, this LMG had its range tweaked in the August 11 patch. However, this particular gun was on the other end of the changes, having its range reduced instead. A huge 36% decrease was applied in the latest patch. Meaning that the Bruen MK9 can only reach its maximum damage up to 1,050m. This is a sizable drop from the original 1,650m that the LMG was capable of. If you happened to run a loadout with this weapon included, it might be worth swapping out for the newly buffed Holger-26 instead. How was the M91 changed? The M91 received a buff to ADS speed along with close quarters damage, according to the August 11 notes. While this is accurate, it surprisingly comes at a cost for other statistics. ADS speed was dropped by 7%, meaning that you’ll be able to lock onto your target quicker than usual with this LMG. However, close quarters damage was increased as the total maximum range took a huge hit. Maximum damage in total was bumped from 31 to 32, though the total range for the weapon dropped by 600m. If you’re a fan of this LMG, just be wary that damage from afar won’t be anywhere near as effective as it was before. So that wraps up how all four weapons were truly changed in the August 11 patch. The official notes from Infinity Ward outlined most of the adjustments, but these numbers reveal the full extent of the latest weapon tuning update.

Modern Warfare beta: New Ground War details revealed, minimap and more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare beta: New Ground War details revealed, minimap and more Infinity WardInfinity Ward have revealed new details on Modern Warfare’s Ground War mode, ahead of its upcoming addition to the Multiplayer Beta on September 21. Very few details regarding Modern Warfare’s Ground War mode have been revealed, and – at the time of writing – no gameplay footage has been released. Despite that, players can look forward to playing it as part of the Beta. The ‘Message of the Day’ was updated on September 13, stating that the new 32v32 Ground War mode will be added on Saturday, September 21. The mode will be played on a map called Karst River Quarry. Ahead of this, some new details regarding the large-team mode have been revealed. A screenshot from Karst River Quarry Ground War showed a number of vehicles on the map, as well as helicopters in the sky. This led to speculation that killstreaks would still be available in Ground War mode, despite the vehicles already on the map. This has since been confirmed by Joe Cecot, Infinity Ward’s Multiplayer Design Director. He stated that there are “definitely killstreaks” in the current build of Ground War. There was some concern that games could become too busy and cluttered, but there was a generally positive response to the confirmation. Similarly, Ground War – at least in its current build – will feature a minimap that shows enemy fire, according to reputable Modern Warfare leaker ‘TheGamingRevolution’. There has been no shortage of controversy surrounding the minimap in Modern Warfare. For reasons never publicly revealed, Infinity Ward removed it as default. However, following community feedback, they were added back as default, but without the common feature of showing enemy fire. It seems Ground War will see a divergence from this, possibly to aid players’ awareness with so many opponents on the map. You can see gunfire on the Mini-Map in 32v32 Groundwar. — TheGamingRevolution (@TheGamingRevoYT) September 14, 2019 It’s not clear whether this feature will subsequently be expanded into all other modes in Modern Warfare, but all signs currently indicate the minimap in Ground War will show unsilenced enemy fire as is commonplace in Call of Duty titles. Infinity Ward have made clear that they are actively listening to player feedback, so many of these aspects will be subject to change ahead of the game’s full release on October 25. The weekend of September 21/22 will be an open beta, where all players can get their hands on the game, not just those who have pre-ordered.

Modern Warfare beta access issues hit Xbox One players – Dexerto
Modern Warfare beta access issues hit Xbox One players ActivisionCall of Duty Modern Warfare has opened up its beta to PS4, Xbox One, and PC but the Xbox players are being met with a plethora of issues when they try to play. The second beta period is now available for Modern Warfare and this time it’s giving players on every platform a chance to play, but things haven’t exactly gone to plan so far. Players on Xbox One have been reporting issues with access, with a message informing them that they’re too early to start playing. Obviously, that’s incorrect as the beta is now available for everyone, but only those on Microsoft’s platform are running into this problem. The Activision Support Twitter page finally revealed they are looking into the problem, after about an hour of players complaining about the issue. “Hey Xbox players If you’re trying to get in the beta and are receiving a “you’re too early” message we’re currently working to resolve this,” they wrote. Hey Xbox players If you’re trying to get in the beta and are receiving a “you’re too early” message we’re currently working to resolve this. We’ll let you know when it’s fixed. — Activision Support (@ATVIAssist) September 19, 2019 This beta marks the first opportunity players have to test out the new cross-play function of Modern Warfare, something that will help unify the playerbase. There’s a lot new about this year’s entry but some of the biggest news was the complete implementation of cross-play between Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The alpha and beta that came before were both PS4-exclusive, so players didn’t have a chance to see how the game handles every platform at once. Opening the game up to PC players with console players opens up a can of worms for many players as PC will offer higher framerates and better performance across the board. If you’re an Xbox One player, you do have access to the Xbox One X which is currently the most powerful console on the market so you’re not seeing a completely different experience if you’re on console. Read More: How bad is SBMM in Modern Warfare? – We’ll keep you updated on when Activision solves the issue with beta access for players. Update 1: Activision says the issue is resolved, but players are still reporting problems. Hey Xbox players, the “you’re too early” has been resolved. Please let us know if you are still experiencing the issue. Enjoy the Beta. — Activision Support (@ATVIAssist) September 19, 2019 We will continue to keep you updated.

Modern Warfare player “bends” Cruise Missile for insane multi-kill – Dexerto
Modern Warfare player “bends” Cruise Missile for insane multi-kill Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players have been getting creative with how they use the game’s arsenal – leading on players to find an inventive way to net a multi-kill with the Cruise Missile. Infinity Ward launched their soft reboot of the legendary Modern Warfare series on October 25, and since then players have drained hundreds of hours mastering every weapon in the game from the various rifles, SMGs, and Killstreaks. But players quickly found that some loadouts are much more effective than others, especially considering there are maps in the game which completely negate aerial Killstreaks such as the Chopper Gunner and the like. Players know by now that Azhir Cave will give them a hard time if they’re carrying air-to-ground Killstreaks, seeing as the taverns covers a good chunk of the map’s layout. While some players might prefer to unequip streak rewards like the Cruise Missile to avoid that predicament, Reddit user ‘JetexGM’ decided to get a bit tricky with theirs for an insane multi-kill. After launching their Killstreak, the player noticed most of the opposing side were holed up inside the taverns. “Damn it, they’re all in the caves,” the player said as they showed a clip showing how to get a Cruise Missile deep inside the caves of the map. “I wanna bend it like Beckham. You ready for this?” At the realization, they banked the missile to make a hard-right swerve, before getting a perfect angle to navigate the armament parallel to the ground. Then it was a simple matter of getting as deep inside the taverns as possible before making contact to really push the Cruise Missile behind enemy lines. The player’s ingenuity was immediately rewarded with a 5x Multi-Kill that cleared out the entrance of the cave while making some players a believer in miracles. As far as impressive Cruise Missile kills go, this would definitely rank at the top especially since it took both players and spectators for a surprise. Even though JetexGM’s play was a unique feat of creativity, it’s sure to inspire more CoD players to find new ways of manipulating straightforward Killstreaks.

Modern Warfare Battle Royale ‘Warzone’ could be revealed very soon – Dexerto
Modern Warfare Battle Royale ‘Warzone’ could be revealed very soon PAX/Infinity WardA new rumor suggests that the leaked battle royale game mode for Call of Duty, known as ‘Warzone’, could be revealed at PAX East at the end of February or start of March 2020. PAX East – short for Penny Arcade Expo – will take place from February 27 to March 1 2020. It is the latest in a long line of PAX events, with multiple installments of the gaming festival taking place every single year. The upcoming PAX East has already seen PlayStation pull out over fears of Coronavirus, meaning any fans wanting The Last of Us II gameplay are down on their luck. However, a new rumor suggests that CoD fans might be able to get excited. News surrounding Warzone is scarce at best, with Activision keen to clamp down on any leaks. They are even pursuing legal action against a Reddit user who originally leaked the battle royale mode. These rumors come by way of a Twitter account with the handle ‘ModernWarzone’. According to that account, one booth at PAX East, which will be used by Activision for Call of Duty, has no clear purpose, and is not listed as a Modern Warfare booth. This has prompted speculation that it will be used to reveal Warzone, which is thought to be a standalone battle royale mode, and not intrinsically linked to 2019’s Modern Warfare. 1. Pax East has 3 booths concerning COD. 2 are listed as Modern Warfare, however one is only listed as COD. Which lines up with the fact that Warzone will be a stand alone separately downloadable game. This information was provided by @onqore. pic.twitter.com/66ChGfZU33 — ModernWarzone (@ModernWarzone) February 22, 2020 Further to this, the booth listed as only Call of Duty will allegedly share a space with PUBG, the well-known battle royale game. The suggestion that PAX East will be the venue for the reveal of Warzone would line up with reports that indicate an early March release date is lined up. However, the Twitter user speculates that the space is too small for a Warzone reveal, which would suggest a full reveal before PAX East, and that the shared booth will simply be used for people to get their hands on some gameplay. The COD shared booth is TOO SMALL to fill a Warzone lobby, indicating that there will need to be an officially released version to fill the lobbies to show off the tech. pic.twitter.com/vrHkSfCz7N — ModernWarzone (@ModernWarzone) February 22, 2020 It goes without saying that there is no confirmation we will see Warzone at PAX East, or before. While it is correct that Call of Duty will be present, the non-Modern Warfare booth could be used for multiple other things, such as a CDL related area. While Warzone’s arrival seems imminent, Activision’s austerity towards leaks means it’s incredibly difficult to discern accurate information from fiction. This will likely remain the case, at least until Activision have decided it’s the right time for some concrete information.

YouTuber leaks classic remade maps for alleged Modern Warfare battle royale mode – Dexerto
YouTuber leaks classic remade maps for alleged Modern Warfare battle royale mode While a battle royale mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has yet to be confirmed by Infinity Ward, one YouTuber is already leaking classic map locations that he says will play a major part. TheGamingRevolution, a YouTuber who has gained traction as a leaker of Call of Duty information, not only claims a battle royale is happening – but that it will indeed include iconic locations from previous Modern Warfare games. This means Modern Warfare’s battle royale mode could take a page straight out the playbook of Black Ops 4’s Blackout, where references to past maps from the Black Ops series were scattered across the landscape. Not only has he claimed classic maps will be included but he has actually listed them. The YouTuber explicitly stated the following maps will be included in some shape or form: Shipment – Scrapyard – Wetwork – Vacant – Rust – Broadcast – Gulag – Backlot – Boneyard – Terminal – These maps are unlikely to be direct remasters but rather reimaginings, where the locations are identifiable but not identical versions of the maps. Blackout’s Array in comparison to the Black Ops 1 map it was based on, is probably a good comparison here. A “rough sketching” of the actual Modern Warfare battle royale map was also included within the video. The sketch hardly screams legitimate but does provide some interesting details. TGR notes that the labels on the above map are just jokes to distinguish different areas. The battle royale map will reportedly include 35 different locations, a vast increase in comparison to Blackout. It is also two to three times larger than Blackout, suggesting Call of Duty’s second furore into battle royale will be on a much larger scale. The map is mainly made up of the co-op and spec-op missions. Classic Modern Warfare locations, both from the campaigns and multiplayer, will fill the gaps. 393TGR goes on to note: “There are giant mountains towering above you, large cities, apparently the map itself is the best part about battle royale. It’s a map unlike we’ve ever seen in any battle royale game.” Black Ops 4’s Blackout has divided opinion in the CoD community with some loving the survival mode and others believing it has taken away the focus from the classic multiplayer. Whether this turns out to be an accurate leaks or not remains to be seen, with Activision and Infinity remaining tight lipped on the prospect of battle royales returning to CoD for a second consecutive year.

Modern Warfare battle royale leak: Warzone, map locations, vehicles Infinity WardFollowing the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 launch on February 11, which appeared to tease a brand-new battle royale mode being introduced to the game, leakers have released new images from the mode apparently named “Warzone.” Players who downloaded the v1.14 update for the popular first-person shooter were greeted with a new option on the main menu labeled simply as “Classified,” with players unable to enter this mode at the moment. The Season 2 trailer also featured teasers that hinted towards the arrival of the long-rumored battle royale mode, which appeared to show a group of four players heading into a reworked version of classic Modern Warfare 2 map Terminal as they searched for victories in the upcoming mode. ? BREAKING: Possible Battle Royale teaser trailer in #ModernWarfare! pic.twitter.com/IEsYCjjHHR — DEXERTO Call of Duty (@DexertoIntel) February 11, 2020 Possible Modern Warfare battle royale name Following the release of the trailer, data miners and leakers have started to release more information about the mode, giving us a look at some of the art from the battle royale, locations on the map, and revealing a possible name. An image uploaded to the /r/ModernWarfare subreddit on February 11 claimed to have found the key art ahead of the mode’s release, showing a group of the game’s characters standing on top of a helicopter and destroyed vehicles, with the name “Call of Duty Warzone” appearing behind them. The user has since deleted their account, but you can view the image below. Call of Duty leaker TheGamingRevolution also threw his weight behind the name, writing that it was legitimately “the name of the battle royale mode in Modern Warfare.” He also claimed that it was the name that David Vonderhaar originally wanted to use for Blackout in Black Ops 4. With the mode now believed to be in the game as “Classified,” and teasers appearing in the official Season 2 trailer, it seems like Call of Duty fans won’t have too long to wait before the can hope into the mode in search of victories.

Modern Warfare battle pass skin gives EBR-14 “pay to win” Warzone buff – Dexerto
Modern Warfare battle pass skin gives EBR-14 “pay to win” Warzone buff Infinity WardEvidence suggests that Modern Warfare battle pass skins for the EBR-14 give the sniper rifle a damage buff in Warzone that doesn’t normally appear for the base weapon or free camos. A comparison by Reddit user ‘ChickenYug’ shows how the gun performs differently depending on which skin is equipped for the EBR – with a couple of blueprints reportedly allowing the rifle to have a one-shot kill potential. The weapon is a semi-automatic long-range rifle that is a popular choice for players looking to deal consistent pressure from far away. Though the rifle has great damage, it’s not the hardest hitting sniper in the game. That conversation changes when equipping the rifle’s ‘Line Breaker’ skin which players can obtain after buying into and leveling up the Season 2 battle pass. “This is pay to win – plain and simple,” ChickenYug said. “I have been absolutely tearing through games with this gun and have completed all the challenges as it is completely broken.” Their comparison shows the rifle without the skin landing a point-blank shot to a nearby player’s head. While damaging, the shot left the player standing waiting to heal up for the next demonstration. Going over to a nearby hut to change weapons, the player equips the EBR-14 with the ‘Line Breaker’ skin as well as all the same attachments that the standard variant had. The ensuing shot was way more potent than the one that came out of the previous attempt, immediately killing the experiment’s test subject. Though they didn’t test it themselves, the user linked another instance where the EBR’s ‘Flesh Wound’ skin gives a similar buff. Members of the CoD community are convinced this is simply a bug with the battle pass skins, as opposed to a blatant pay-to-win tactic from Activision. “It’s in fact a bug,” user ‘Lucky_-1y’ argued. “There’s no attachments that increase the headshot damage for the EBR14, but still P2W, since it’s a paid version that gives you a huge advantage” Regardless, the skins seem to be giving the weapon an unintended advantage in Warzone that the Infinity Ward devs might move quickly to fix.

Modern Warfare August stealth patch secretly nerfs Merc Foregrip – Dexerto
Modern Warfare August stealth patch secretly nerfs Merc Foregrip Infinity Ward / Reddit, u/xPiiRaTeD-[jwplayer br5AuoVJ]The Call of Duty community has discovered that Merc Foregrip, one of Modern Warfare and Warzone’s most controversial attachments, has been secretly nerfed in an August stealth patch. Back in July, it was exposed that the Merc Foregrip provided a hidden statistical upgrade to player movement of about 3.7 percent. Now, Call of Duty content creator, TrueGameData, has revealed that the earlier buff was not only reverted, but a subsequent nerf was added that reduces movement speed by 1 percent when it is attached. For about a month, everyone started running Merc on all assault rifle classes because the 3.7-percent movement buff outpaced the advantages of most no-stock attachments, while also providing numerous benefits. Those benefits are most notably recoil control and hip-fire accuracy, the latter of which caused the attachment to be GA’d by Call of Duty League players. As the New York Subliners’ Tommy ‘ZooMaa’ Paparatto explained in his Dexerto column, Merc was banned because “it makes hipfire really overpowered.” That advantage still makes the attachment an ideal option for the MP5, but the new movement nerf is a whopping 4.7 percent reduction in movement speed, making it wholly undesirable for assault rifles. As TrueGameData explains upon testing the underbarrel attachments, this nerf brings it much closer to the Ranger Foregrip’s movement speed nerf, which is a 1.3-percent reduction. That means instead of having a hefty 5-percent advantage for movement over the Ranger, the Merc now only brings a 0.3-percent advantage. Given the Ranger’s advantages when it comes to aiming stability, it can now be prioritized over the Merc for ranged assault rifles, which are much less dependent on hip-fire potency. And this follows TrueGameData’s conclusion, as he recounts that “the Merc is still probably the better option for SMG’s, just because it has that hip-fire spread benefit. But the Ranger, for sure, now is the way to go with a long-range gun.” Until the MP5 gets substantially nerfed, Merc will remain a top option across Modern Warfare multiplayer and Warzone as the attachment provides a 19-percent more hip-fire accuracy than any of the other underbarrel options. But with a new movement nerf, the AR meta is bound to start mixing up and, particularly in the battle royale, begin shifting more and more toward the Ranger.

Modern Warfare April 30 update brings back Bounty Contracts in Warzone – Dexerto
Modern Warfare April 30 update brings back Bounty Contracts in Warzone Infinity WardCall of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone have received a new playlist update for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One that’s bringing back Bounty Contracts to the battle royale, among other changes listed in the patch notes. It was a quick turnaround for the devs to address an immediate problem with Warzone’s contracts that will now be changed up again only a day after the April 29 update. Infinity Wards’ April 30 game settings update will also bring in a few bug fixes to Modern Warfare’s multiplayer, while making key adjustments for Warzone and MW modes to improve the experience on both ends. Bounty Contracts The reception to the removal of bounty contracts in yesterday’s update was not received well from fans and popular streamers alike. The push back on the Most Wanted variants of the contracts quickly changed IW’s mind, reintroducing the tried-and-true regular Bounty Contracts. Now the devs have completely done away with the Most Wanted contracts and reinstated the system that has garnered a lot of praise from the community. Players should see the contracts work how they usually do, and time will tell if the Most Wanted contracts will be introduced as an LTM or other down the road. Bugs and Fixes Meanwhile, a bug has been patched that will hopefully fix the glitch that’s been getting players stuck in loading screens when trying to queue up in Warzone. As for the Multiplayer side of MW, a new fix will hopefully prevent Gunsmith Custom loadouts from disappearing in matches. Plays should keep an eye on this and report anything out of the norm to the devs. Infected mode also got some healthy changes. The out of bounds timer has been adjusted, as well as the match start timer so that players can join in before the countdown ends. Speaking of, 3v3 Cranked Gunfight now has 15 seconds on its timer instead of the 10 seconds before this patch. Infinity Ward has been making waves in the Modern Warfare ecosystem with near-constant improvements to the title. Players can now dive into all the new adjustments in Modern Warfare by catching the patch notes below with the full breakdown of the April 30 playlist update. Playlist Update Fix for Gunsmith Custom loadouts not appearing in matches – Removing Most Wanted Contracts from Warzone and adding Bounty Contracts back – Adjusting the timer from 10 to 15 seconds in 3v3 Cranked Gunfight – Adjusting out of bounds timer in Infected – Adjusting the match start timer in Infected so players can join before the Infected countdown ends. – Fix for a bug where players could get stuck during the infil while loading into a BR match –

Modern Warfare April 28 update to add Warzone contract, new LMG, more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare April 28 update to add Warzone contract, new LMG, more Infinity WardModern Warfare and Warzone players are in store for an update that looks to add a new layer of challenge into the battle royale mode, while also introducing new content in the way of weapons and cosmetics Infinity Ward has been frequently updating Warzone with new content and playlists since its March 10 release. Perhaps a little too frequently according to many vocal players. Another incoming update is set to shake things up once again with new cosmetics, a brand new weapon, and even an intriguing Warzone feature. Here’s everything that’s on the horizon for both Modern Warfare and Warzone. A new Warzone Contract to up the challenge. Warzone’s April 28 update will be introducing a new type of Contract to the 150-player battle royale. The game currently features three unique Contracts. Recon, Bounty, and Scavenger, each of which rewards a team for completing objectives. ‘Most Wanted’ will soon be the fourth Contract in Warzone as players will be able to up the difficulty for an extraordinary reward. If you’re down on your luck and all of your teammates failed their Gulag 1v1s, the Most Wanted Contract might just shift momentum in your favor. Upon activating the new feature, you’ll become a Bounty Target for “all teams in Verdansk.” Living through the duration of the bounty will see all of your teammates redeployed without having to spend a dollar. A powerful LMG is on its way to Warzone and Modern Warfare. Infinity Ward is set to bolster Modern Warfare’s arsenal of devastating weaponry with the new MK9 Bruen LMG. The upcoming Light Machine Gun boasts “high accuracy and reliable damage,” though there’s no telling just how big the magazine will be, nor how fast the weapon will fire. Light Machine Guns offer a unique variant to Assault Rifles or Submachine Guns in that they often feature larger magazines, which allows players to deal tremendous damage in longer bursts. Perhaps this new LMG will be an effective counter to vehicles patrolling Verdansk? Gunsmith Customs and new cosmetics. The April 28 update will also introduce a highly-requested feature in ‘Gunsmith Customs.’ Players will finally be able to mix and match all sorts of weapon attachments with their favorite Blueprints, rather than being locked to a specific layout. So long as you’re selecting attachments from the same weapon, you’ll be able to change any aspect of a certain blueprint to create an optimal, custom fit. New cosmetics are also on the way in the form of the ‘Pyromaniac’ and ‘Fire Claw III’ bundles. Here’s a full breakdown of each set. Pyromaniac bundle: Legendary ‘Firestarter’ skin for Krueger. – Caldera Legendary blueprint. – New Finishing Move. – Flaming Throwing Knives. – More unknown items. – Fire Claw III bundle: Legendary SMG blueprint, ‘By the Toe.’ – New ‘Crown-themed’ Spray. – New ‘Tiger-themed’ Charm. – Shoot The Ship is also making a return for a limited time with the April 28 update. Modern Warfare April 22 update patch notes for PS4, Xbox One, PC – Dexerto
Modern Warfare April 22 update patch notes for PS4, Xbox One, PC Infinity WardCall of Duty developers Infinity Ward have pushed through another update for Modern Warfare that patches some issues affecting both multiplayer and Warzone. Another day, another Modern Warfare update, as Infinity Ward continue to churn out patches for their flagship game and its currently ongoing third season. This latest patch went live at around 9:30 AM PT / 12:30 PM ET on April 22 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Compared to the update they released the day prior, it’s a lot less significant in terms of both size and what it contains. Its primary focus is to address some issues in the game, such as bugs related to weapon blueprints, the new Renetti pistol added at the start of Season 3, invincibility exploit in Warzone and watches worn with certain Operators. April 22 update patch notes Fixed a bug where players were able to use Game Battles to make custom weapon blueprints that they can then use in MP or Warzone. – Upon picking up a dropped Renetti, the initial raise audio would be heard globally. This has been fixed. – Fix for an invincibility exploit after reviving a teammate in Warzone – Fixed a bug where two watches would be seen on the wrist of the CTSFO 1 Mil-Sim Operator – It’s already been a busy week for the Call of Duty developers; in addition to releasing two patches, they also announced a new strategy for combating hackers in Warzone. Arguably the biggest issue with the battle royale right now is that it’s infested with people using third-party programs to gain an advantage, but Infinity Ward will try to better address this by matching suspected cheaters together in matches. Furthermore, for anyone who gets banned as a result of being reported, the player who filed the initial report will receive a confirmation of the decision. As for what’s new in Modern Warfare, the April 21 update added a new 6v6 Cabin Fever playlist for smaller maps like Rust, Shipment, Shoot House, Hideout, and Hackey Yard. There’s also a new Operator available in the store, Ronin, as well as the return of Plunder Trios in Warzone. For more information, make sure to check out our April 21 patch notes here.

Modern Warfare April 14 update patch notes – new Trios mode, Drop Zone – Dexerto
Modern Warfare April 14 update patch notes – new Trios mode, Drop Zone Infinity WardThe new Call of Duty update for Modern Warfare and Warzone brought with it new playlists for Multiplayer, as well as an updated Trios mode – with a twist. The update is relatively small, but the new patch is fixing some problems that the Infinity Ward devs have been seeing make their way into matches, although the player base is going to notice the new playlist update that tucked away normal Trios for a variant of the mode. With the launch of the latest playlist changes, the new Scopes and Scatter Guns mode will replace the regular Trios mode. In Multiplayer, Deathmatch Domination is stepping down to make way for Drop Zone, in both core and Hardcore. April 14 Playlist Update With the launch of the latest playlist changes, the new Scopes and Scatter Guns mode will replace the regular Trios mode. The decision comes at the heels of player frustration over popular modes being ousted at the turn of the Season 3 update. Now, Trios will be getting a change that will load it with shotguns and snipers only in the specialized mode. This could be a divisive playlist change, seeing how popular the regular Trios mode was for groups of friends to team up and drop into Warzone. While they still have that option, they’ll now have to queue up in the new playlist that limits them to only two weapon types. A playlist update and a small patch just went live in #ModernWarfare and #Warzone! Click the link to see patch notes and what went live in today’s update! https://t.co/lL8CDctQcl pic.twitter.com/dqtyKpPMhe — Infinity Ward (@InfinityWard) April 14, 2020 In Multiplayer, Deathmatch Domination is stepping down to make way for Drop Zone, in both core and Hardcore. This objective-centric mode will task players with holding the drop zone in order to collect points and earn Killstreaks, as opposed to the traditional ways of getting them. Before going into the mode, players should remember that the ONLY way to earn points is by getting players in the zone – the more people in the zone, the more points the team gets. Call of Duty bug fixes The new update is fixing a game-breaking issue on PC that prevented players from using Field Upgrades. In Warzone, when people would access the Buy Stations while replenishing Armor Plates, a strange glitch disabled Field Upgrades. As such, those players found themselves at an immense disadvantage for the rest of the match. Meanwhile, a general fix comes in the form of new Dead Silence and Stopping Power icons added to the killcam. Previously, players who were eliminated by opponent’s with the Field Upgrades would be confused as to how they died to a silent assassin or to an empowered rifle. Now, the small change should clear up confusion from now on. There’s a few more things to unpack as it pertains to playlists and bug fixes, so make sure to check the full patch notes below, courtesy of Infinity Ward. PLAYLIST UPDATE: Modern Warfare: Adding Drop Zone in both core and Hardcore (Removes Deathmatch Domination) – Adding ‘Stir Crazy’ Playlist – 10v10 playlist with Cranked, Kill Confirmed, Domination, and Hardpoint – Adding Hardcore ‘Stir Crazy’ Playlist – 10v10 playlist with Kill Confirmed, Cranked, Domination, and Team Deathmatch – Removing NVG Realism Mosh Pit – – Warzone Adding “Scopes and Scatter Guns” BR Trios playlist – Snipers and Shotguns only (Replaces regular BR Trios) – – GENERAL FIXES: Fixed an issue on PC where players would lose the ability to use Field Upgrades purchased when replacing Armor Plates while in the Buy Station menu – Upon picking up a dropped SKS, the initial raise audio would be heard globally. This has been fixed. – Fix for Azur’s “Brother’s Keeper” skin displaying the incorrect headgear while in the multiplayer squad walk – Added icons to the killcam to show if you were killed by someone using Dead Silence or Stopping Power – Fix for the stats graph for the Renetti appearing incorrectly –

Modern Warfare answers call of duty to combat Australia fires with bundle – Dexerto
Modern Warfare answers call of duty to combat Australia fires with bundle Activision and developers Infinity Ward have responded to calls to support the relief effort in Australia, where bushfires are ravaging the nation, with a new charity bundle in Modern Warfare. When news of the devastation caused by the Australian fires started to spread across the world, the gaming community called on developers to do what they could through microtransactions to raise money. Fans of both Call of Duty and Apex Legends suggested that cosmetic items could be added, with money raised from purchases going directly to the cause. Infinity Ward has stepped up to the ‘call of duty’ on January 11, renaming their Outback bundle and pledging all proceeds from it to the relief effort. The pack includes a total of eight items, including an Operator skin and a Sniper Rifle camo, plus a cute Koala bear to attach to your weapon. “We’re donating 100% of Activision’s net proceeds from each purchase of the ‘Outback’ pack, which we’ve renamed the Outback Relief Pack,” the news announcement from IW states. The pack is available on all platforms until January 31, and can be purchased with COD points from the in-game store. The news was met with widespread praise from fans on social media and Reddit, giving the team at Infinity Ward credit for acting quickly and helping with a much-needed cause. There are still plenty of complaints about the game itself, but generally, the reception to the store and monetization systems in Modern Warfare has been positive. One issue players have highlighted though, is the inability to purchase individual items from bundles. Instead, players are forced to buy the entire bundle, even if they only really want one or two of the included items. However, with this bundle going towards a cause in dire need, with the fires still raging on in Australia, no one should have any complaints purchasing the whole thing.

Modern Warfare aim response curve types explained for MP & Warzone – Dexerto
Modern Warfare aim response curve types explained for MP & Warzone Since its release, Modern Warfare’s battle royale mode, Warzone, has taken the scene by storm. Over 50 million players have played the mode but there are settings in the game that many don’t know about. Infinity Ward’s relaunch of their flagship series, Modern Warfare, has welcomed a new era into the franchise. Having integrated cross-play for the first time, the brains behind Modern Warfare have pulled out all the stops to ensure that Call of Duty reaches new heights. In early March the game released its Battle Royale mode, Warzone, as a follow-up to the previous attempt – Blackout. The game mode quickly rose in popularity both in player base and on social media with the game moving to the top of the Twitch charts. Nonetheless, there are still some overlooked features within Modern Warfare — one of which is aim response curve (ARC) type. What is aim response curve? Put simply, ARC refers to the on-screen movement that is directly relative to the input from the thumbstick. Generally, most games employ a ‘standard’ form of ARC to cater for all movement mistakes — meaning that when heavier force is applied to the thumbstick by accident, the game utilizes an algorithm to counterbalance that. Currently, there are three different ARC variants in Modern Warfare: Standard: Simple power curve map from aim stick to aim rate. – Linear: Aim stick maps directly to aim rate. – Dynamic: Reserve S-curve mapping for fine aim rate control. – Each of the above ARC types holds their own merit. Reddit user “KingZillionn” posted a graph to the CoDCompetitive subreddit which aptly shows each curve type relative to rotation speed and thumbstick movement. Which aim response curve type should I use? Of course, the answer to the above question is entirely up to you – but let’s break down each variant further, to allow you to make a more informed decision. The standard curve will always factor out ‘rogue’ movements, meaning that when you move your thumbstick, it will gradually increase the rate of movement on-screen, based on the percentage of the algorithm. Hypothetically speaking, if the standard curve algorithm factored at 10%, then your movement on-screen will gradually increase by increments of 10% until it reaches 100%. This also means that inner movements are less sensitive (i.e., easier for fine aim control) and outer thumbstick movements are more sensitive (i.e., great for fast turning) — ideal for beginners or those swapping from game-to-game! The linear curve is a “direct path from aim stick to aim rate,” according to Activision’s blog post. Essentially, the movement on-screen will directly reflect the raw input on the sticks. So if you move your stick at 75% of the maximum rotation speed, the screen will also move at 75% to mirror that. Although this seems to be the best option on paper, it makes controlling your aim much more difficult. However, players can toggle the ADS sensitivity multiplier to counterbalance this. Nonetheless, this would be recommended for more experienced or ‘advanced’ players. Finally, we have dynamic curve. For all intents and purposes, this variant is a hybrid of the aforementioned types. The dynamic curve employs a reversed S-curve algorithm to your thumbstick movement. This means that you get a gradual build-up in rotation speed relative to thumbstick movement, but it will then accelerate towards raw input to provide the feeling of ‘snappy’ aim. In summary, if you’re a first-person shooter veteran, then linear could be the one for you. However, if you’re new to the genre, then stick with the standard curve to keep everything consistent. Dynamic curve will work great if you like to hustle around the map while keeping your aim crisp — although it may take a while to become accustomed to. Of course, if you’re still stuck on which ARC type best suits your needs, then trial each one and see which fits your playstyle the most. Remember, there is no right or wrong variant — just one that suits you best in Warzone!

Modern Warfare 3’s worst attachment could be lethal with the right buffs – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3’s worst attachment could be lethal with the right buffs ActivisionThere is an attachment in Modern Warfare 3 that has cemented itself as the worst in the game but with the right buffs, it could become a great optic that is well worth using. From the JAK Glassless Optic to the DR-6 Handstop, there is no shortage of fantastic attachments that make up the Modern Warfare 3 meta. However, with so many available it’s only natural that some would fall short and others be entirely useless. That’s exactly the case for the JAK Bullseye, an aftermarket part added in MW3 and Warzone Season 1 that was immediately hated upon arrival. It quickly proved itself to be the worst attachment in the game, a title it has kept ever since, even now in Season 3. There are a lot of reasons to not use the JAK Bullseye but it has two real problems holding it back: this optic obscures enemies as soon as you begin firing, and the sights themselves are misaligned so shots don’t go where they should. Needless to say, an optic that makes aiming harder has no real use other than creating cursed loadouts. However, with the right buffs, this terrible sight could become a legitimate option, at least on some weapons. What makes the JAK Bullseye unique is that it can be equipped on every primary weapon in Modern Warfare 3. This means it has the potential to be a fantastic substitute for close-range guns with undesirable iron sights like the AMR9 and WSP-9. It can even be used on sniper rifles providing the opportunity to use a sniper with iron sights. This wouldn’t be too useful in Warzone, but in multiplayer where snipers like the Longbow excel up close it could be genuinely strong. However, that can only become a reality if Sledgehammer fixes the JAK Bullseye’s aforementioned issues. Until that day comes the faulty optic will remain the worst attachment in Modern Warfare 3 and should be avoided at all costs.

Modern Warfare 3’s party XP boost is alienating solo players – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3’s party XP boost is alienating solo players ActivisionModern Warfare 3 players are none too pleased with a recent change to the XP system, which gives more XP to people who play in larger groups. As part of the recent update to Modern Warfare 3, the game’s XP system got a tweak that hands out more XP to players who are with a group, with it increasing for each person added to the party. This new system is a great change for those who consistently play with squads, but it also leaves out those who don’t. While it makes sense to encourage people to play together, giving an advantage for doing so is going to cause some toxicity. Over on the MW3 subreddit, people are already upset with this tweak to Modern Warfare 3 XP, with one user having been annoyed with the parties before this was introduced: “Parties playing already having a massive advantage, this is just annoying now.” One issue is that when a solo player goes up against a team of people partied up, they are naturally at a disadvantage. Now, give that party a boost in XP, and people will surely be stacking up just to get that, further complicating the issue. “Not a fan of this tbh, just encourages playing in full stacks and punishes solo players. Can you at least show in pre game lobby when you’re about to play against parties then? Or give a Mercenary playlist would be great.” Mercenary playlists used to be a constant of CoD multiplayer, where only solo players could queue up for it, which gave a nice way to counteract the benefits of parties. But without a dedicated Mercenary playlist, parties have even more of an advantage and people have more of an incentive to run through multiplayer in massive groups. One Modern Warfare 3 player is so upset by this change that they regret paying for the Season 2 battle pass. It’s understandable that as a multiplayer game, Modern Warfare 3 is going to push playing with others more so than other games, but this seems a flawed way to do it. Because the people partying up have most likely already been doing so, and the issue was with those who played solo. There still is no easy way for those players to find people to play with. If the devs are going to change the system to be like this, then they also need to stop disbanding lobbies after every match. Doing this would allow players to get to know each other better, possibly friend one another, and then party up to get the bonus XP. As one user says, “Now don’t disband lobbies so I can make friends.” As it stands, the system just doesn’t make sense and isn’t going to fix the problem at hand. Instead, it’s going to alienate the solo players and make it more of a slog for them to play.

What is Tactical Stance in MW3 and how to use it – Dexerto
What is Tactical Stance in MW3 and how to use it ActivisionTactical Stance, or “Tac-Stance,” is a new aiming option introduced for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Here is what the new hip-fire and ADS hybrid is, and how to use it best in MW3. Tactical Stance in Modern Warfare 3 is intended as a solution for close-quarters combat which gives you the best of both worlds between the mobility of hip-fire and the precision of aiming down sights. Coming as part of MW3’s movement overhaul, which also saw a few other new changes to traversal, players have yet to realize the potential of Tac-Stance. Here’s what it exactly is and how to take advantage of the new feature. What is Tac-Stance in MW3? Tac-Stance is ideal in close-quarter combat situations when close to enemies, specially designed to be used aggressively. As explained aptly by a CoD blog post, Tactical Stance is described as a “perfect middle-ground between hip-fire and aiming down sights.” The feature provides a tighter bullet spread than normal hip firing and quicker mobility than ADS. Here is what aiming with Tactical Stance looks like, compared to hip-fire and ADS: By default, you also fire in Tac-Stance while sliding, making shooting while sliding a more viable strategy. It’s important to note that the feature will take some time to get used to, as turning the weapon sideways to use canted iron sights is jarring at first. As Sledgehammer Games themselves put it, “Tac-Stance balances mobility and accuracy, allowing for evasive maneuvers and aggressive engagements.” But how do you enter Tac-Stance when not sliding? How to use Tac-Stance in Modern Warfare 3 Tactical Stance is enabled by default and will activate when sliding, or by aiming and pressing down if using a controller. Players can decide for themselves how they want Tac-Stance to Activate in settings. Options include Aim + Melee, Aim + Down, Aim + Sprint, Double-tap ADS or off. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to change the setting. Go to Settings, which is found in the top right corner – Scroll over to the Gameplay Settings tab – Next, scroll down to Tactical ADS Activation – From there, you can change it to the desired setting. – Throughout MW3’s lifecycle, Sledgehammer has adjusted the tactical stance spread of various weapons via a few different patches. Modern Warfare 3’s Battle Rage gets immediately nerfed again – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3’s Battle Rage gets immediately nerfed again Modern Warfare 3Sledgehammer Games has listened to the outrage in the Call of Duty community and issued an instant nerf to the “overpowered” Battle Rage in Modern Warfare 3. Here are all the changes. Modern Warfare 3 has launched into early access beta from October 6-7, after they revealed tonnes of new details through their annual Call of Duty Next event. Fans from all around the world have been trying to play the highly anticipated game which has been made accessible through beta access codes. Those lucky enough to have got their hands on MW3 have been overwhelmingly positive, however, the newly introduced Tactical Equipment of Battle Rage has been constantly slammed. Despite the developers nerfing the Battle Rage after the event to resolve the issue, many players and creators have still cried out for change claiming it to be way too overpowered. Now, it appears Sledgehammer Games has listened once gained after issuing another immediate fix to further nerf it. All Modern Warfare 3 Battle Rage changes The devs officially announced major changes to Battle Rage on October 6 to their Twitter/X account, detailing all the ways the impacts have been reduced and changed as shown below: Reduced max duration from 10s to 6s – Kills will no longer increase the effect duration – Health regeneration now begins upon killing an enemy – Incoming damage will now interrupt health regeneration – Removed increased health regeneration speed – “We’ll continue to monitor the effectiveness of this Equipment as the Beta progresses. Thank you for your patience as we worked to address this feedback!” Sledgehammer Games stated. Battle Rage first featured in Modern Warfare 2 as a Field Upgrade, which the devs have now overhauled to instead add it in as part of a player’s Tactical Equipment. Initially, when activated in MW3, the user’s health would regenerate quickly, they would gain resistance to tacticals and each kill would increase the effect duration. How to play Modern Warfare 3 Zombies in third person – Dexerto
How to play Modern Warfare 3 Zombies in third person Activision BlizzardMW3 Zombies lets players switch freely between first and third-person perspectives. Here’s how the feature works. Modern Warfare 3 marks a season of change for Call of Duty in myriad ways. Most significantly, the new release brings about the debut of Zombies mode in the long-running Modern Warfare series. Treyarch Studios developed the mode in conjunction with Sledgehammer Games and High Moon Studios, an effort that jettisons Zombies’ usual round-based offerings in favor of a PvE-centric, sandbox experience. Fortunately, while players hone their teamwork skills, they’ll also have the option to leisurely switch perspectives at the press of a button. Here’s how third-person mode works in MW3 Zombies Modern Warfare 3 users interested in playing Zombies in third-person need only to perform one action — hold down on the controller’s D-pad. From this point of view, players will still be able to shoot, sprint, slide, and jump their way across MW3’s Urzikstan map. As expected, the POV shift pulls the camera back and offers a much wider view of the action. Players should, in turn, have an easier time spotting zombies before they get too close for comfort. Call of Duty-dedicated Twitter account MW2 OG showcased third-person mode in MW3 Zombies in the following gameplay clip: Better still, switching back to first-person is just as simple as changing to third-person. Again, holding down the D-pad does the trick instantaneously. It’ll be up to players to decide whether or not this is an optimal way of enjoying Modern Warfare’s first foray into the world of Zombies. Modern Warfare 3 Zombies: How to level up weapons fast – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 Zombies: How to level up weapons fast ActivisionMW3 unifies player progression across all modes, meaning you can level up your weapons in multiplayer and zombies. Here are a few tricks to help you level up weapons faster in MW3’s Zombies mode. Much like the previous entries, MW3 shares player progression across all game modes, meaning you can level up your guns and equipment for use in multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone. It’s a great feature to have, as complaints of sweaty competitive environments make said side of the game feel like a slog. On the other hand, leveling up your guns in Zombies helps build your arsenal to withstand the onslaught of the competitive modes. If you’re part of the latter group looking to level up weapons fast in MW3’s Zombies portion for a competitive advantage, here are a few tips to make the grind easier. Take advantage of XP tokens and events Starting with an easy one, taking advantage of XP tokens and XP events is imperative to leveling up weapons faster. Since Modern Warfare 2019, XP tokens have carried forward to the next entry. If you never use them, now would be a perfect time to use them. At the bare minimum, you’re in a round of Operation Deadbolt for 45 minutes, so the amount of XP you can rack up is astronomically high. If you don’t have any, completing MW3’s campaign will grant you a 30-minute double weapon XP token. The battle pass will also reward these tokens provided you grind through it. On the other hand, when special holidays or events occur, Call of Duty normally hosts double XP events. This removes the need for using your personal XP tokens, although you don’t gain quadruple XP for popping XP tokens during a double XP event. Complete contracts and successfully exfil MW3’s Zombies mode is a unique spin, as it’s a hybrid of Treyarch’s timeless formula with the DMZ. Players drop in and must survive the zombie horde while completing contracts. Contracts play a big part in Operation Deadbolt, as completing them will grant a ton of XP. Not only does that XP help you blaze through the traditional 55 levels, but it also levels up your weapons just as fast. When you feel like you’ve done enough work in Urzikstan, you must successfully exfil with what you found. As you can imagine, successfully escaping, meaning you get on the chopper and leave, grants you just as much XP. Kill zombies and survive for as long as possible Lastly, if you’re not motivated to do any extra work, simply killing zombies will work well. Granted, you won’t get as much XP as you would completing contracts and doing a successful exfil. Performing the timeless act of killing zombies will help complete in-game challenges, which will grant you XP. Much like the DMZ, there are higher threat levels to travel to, and the farther you go, the stronger your opposition gets. Killing hordes, Manglers, and Mimics will net you a nice boost of XP. In conclusion, anything you do will grant you tons of weapon XP in MW3 Zombies to level up weapons. Just be sure to maximize your potential. Modern Warfare 3 Zombies: How to find the power in MWZ – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 Zombies: How to find the power in MWZ ActivisionMW3 Zombies features familiar gameplay elements that require players to turn on the power in past iterations. Here’s what you need to know about finding the power in MW3 Zombies. Despite being a Sledgehammer Games title, MW3 sees Treyarch return to lend its talents to the zombies portion of the game. Titled Modern Warfare Zombies, this iteration of zombies is an evolution of last year’s DMZ mode. In Operation Deadbolt, players drop into the new Warzone map coming in Season 1, Urzikstan, to loot equipment and exfil successfully. There’s plenty of side content to engage in, such as contracts to complete and zones with increased difficulty as you travel deeper into the map. While MW3’s zombies portion is heavily influenced by the DMZ, it does feature Treyarch’s legendary spin such as perks, Wonder Weapons, and “Pack-a-Punching” weapons. Previously, you needed power to engage with those systems, but that requirement works differently in MWZ. How to activate the power in MW3 Zombies Good news for new players and veterans alike, MW3 Zombies doesn’t task players with turning on the power. For the unaware, previous iterations of the beloved zombies mode tasked players with finding and turning on the power. Sometimes, it was as simple as heading to a room, while other times, it was an elaborate act that required sheer will. Turning on the power would give access to important tools necessary for survival, such as Perk-a-Cola, the Pack-a-Punch machine, or even easter eggs. Without the power, you couldn’t use said machines to get perks or upgrade your weapons for the later stages of increased difficulty. MW3 nixes that requirement, as there’s no round-based mode or a smaller contained setting previous entries held. To access the Pack-a-Punch machine, you only need to find it on the map. To gain Perks, you need to complete contracts, find them, or craft them. No power is required to survive the hordes anymore, well at least, aside from your own electricity to run the game. That’s everything you need to know on how to find the power in MW3 Zombies. Check out the rest of our CoD coverage below for more information. Modern Warfare 3 Zombies: How to complete Automated Backup mission – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 Zombies: How to complete Automated Backup mission ActivisionModern Warfare 3 has a pretty expansive Zombies mode, and it comes with a mission called Automated Backup. Here is a guide on how to complete this within the game. The Zombies mode in Modern Warfare 3 involves collecting a variety of materials in order to complete your missions. The problem is that most of these items are scattered across Urzikstan which makes collecting them excessively tedious. One such mission that you will come across in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies is called Automated Backup. In this mission, you will have to collect ammo mods and activate Deadbolt Turrets within the game to proceed forward. If you are struggling with the mission and unsure what to do, we have got you covered. Guide to the Automated Backup mission in Modern Warfare 3 Here are the steps you need to follow in order to proceed with the Automated Backup mission: Complete objectives in Urzikstan to get access to the rare blue items from the reward caches – These rare blue items will be the ammo mods that you are looking for – You can fight enemies inside Infested Strongholds which will drop reward caches – Once you have the ammo mods, approach the Deadbolt Turrets as pointed out on the map – You will need to activate three Deadbolt Turrets in total (you can do so, only if you have ammo mods in your inventory) – Once all three turrets have been activated, you can receive the Death Perception Acquisition. You will also receive 1500 EXP as a reward for completing the Automated Backup mission. This is all that you need to do when it comes to the Automated Backup mission in Modern Warfare 3 zombies. Modern Warfare 3 Zombies: Trailer, map, gameplay features, & more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 Zombies: Trailer, map, gameplay features, & more ActivisionModern Warfare 3 introduces the fan-favorite Zombies mode for the first time in the MW series through its innovative Operation Deadbolt. Here’s a breakdown of what this new mode brings to the table. Following Call of Duty Vanguard, which also featured Zombies, MW3 takes a distinct approach. The previous game, developed in collaboration between Sledgehammer Games and Treyarch, had shifted from traditional round-based gameplay to objective completion, a change that sparked significant debate among fans. In response to negative feedback, Vanguard returned to round-based maps at the end of the game’s life cycle, but some community members were still left with a sour taste in their mouths. And, to add insult to injury, MW2 did not include a Zombies game mode at all. So, after one year off and an inconsistent year before it, Sledgehammer and Treyarch went back to the drawing board for MW3 and created Operation Deadbolt, an experience unlike anything we have seen before. Contents Operation Deadbolt trailer – Operation Deadbolt story and lore – Does Operation Deadbolt have round-based gameplay? – Operation Deadbolt map and squad size – How does gameplay work in Operation Deadbolt? – All Modern Warfare 3 Zombies Field Upgrades – All Modern Warfare 3 Zombies Ammo Mods – All Modern Warfare 3 Zombies Perks – Modern Warfare 3 rucksacks explained – Operation Deadbolt trailer On September 19, Activision revealed the first cinematic trailer for the upcoming Zombies game mode. Operation Deadbolt story and lore Treyarch revealed a blog, detailing the story of Operation Deadbolt. The story starts with Viktor Zakhaev, the ultranationalist arms dealer and villain, discovering two vials with an unknown substance. The military police catch wind of Zakhaev’s actions and engage in a firefight before the arms dealer can escape. Outnumbered and out of options, Zakhaev throws one of the vials toward the police, and the vessel shatters, and purple smoke engulfs the entire street, transforming everyone into zombies. In the event’s aftermath, SSO Kate Laswell, Sergeant Johnny “Soap” MacTavish, Captain Sergei Ravenovand, and a fourth unseen operator launch Operation Deadbolt. Intel pointed to Zakhaev planning something, and it’s up to the team to find out what he is scheming. The squad arrives at the Exclusion Zone a few weeks after Zakhaev creates the zombie outbreak. You are tasked with stopping Zakhaev and Terminus Outcomes, a private military company, from stealing more resources while also containing the zombie outbreak before its spreads any further. Does Operation Deadbolt have round-based gameplay? MW3 does not feature traditional round-based zombies gameplay. Instead, the game mode combines Modern Warfare map features with the familiar Treyarch gameplay loop fans know and love. The mode is PvE only. Every team works together to complete missions, collect essence, and extract. Operation Deadbolt map and squad size The game mode supports eight teams of three up to 24 players. Players have the option to assimilate together and team up. Just like Warzone and DMZ, Zombies uses proximity chat to make it easier to communicate with teammates. Zombies matches take place on the new Warzone map Urzikstan, which has 11 POIs and is inspired by classic COD. How does gameplay work in Operation Deadbolt? As previously mentioned, MW3 Zombies follows an extraction shooter loop instead of traditional round-based gameplay. There is a 45-minute countdown until exfil begins. Once the countdown ends, players have 15 minutes to get out. Completing exfils contributes to finishing the story. To help make the process easier, teams can earn essence via in-game contracts, killing zombies, and looting. They can then use that essence on ammo depot, buy stations, pack-a-punch, perk machines, wall buys, and mystery boxes. Fans will be happy to know that mystery boxes improve over time in a match. As for other classic Zombies features, the Pack a Punch has a lower cost to start, but the amount of times you can upgrade a weapon is gated based on the threat zone you are in. And perk machines are random. There are nine perks, and PHD is back. Zombies also introduces six Field Upgrades and five ammo mods. Additionally, Zombies’ health depends on the Zone: Low threat, medium threat, or high threat. The devs explained the three different zones should feel like varying degrees of challenging rounds of round-based zombies. And the trailer revealed there will be a boss battle requiring the help of all teams. All Modern Warfare 3 Zombies Field Upgrades Here is every MW3 Zombies Field Upgrade Energy Mine (Medium Recharge): Spawn an explosive, dealing massive damage to enemies who set it off. Frenzied Guard (Slow Recharge): Repair armor to full and force all enemies in the area to target you for 10 seconds. Enemy kills repair armor during this time. Healing Aura (Slow Recharge): Heal all players immediately (and in last stand). Frost Blast (Medium Recharge): Damage enemies with the initial blast and slow those that enter the area of effect. Aether Shroud (Medium Recharge): Become invisible to zombies. Tesla Storm (Slow Recharge): For 10 seconds, lightning connects to other players, stunning and damaging normal enemies. All Modern Warfare 3 Zombies Ammo Mods Following their introduction in Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies mode, Ammo Mods are back in MW3, and players can either find or craft them. The Ammo Mods are passive changes to your ammunition, which means you can give your bullets different effects to best take out the undead hordes in the game. Brain Rot: Zombies are turned into allies when struck by the bullet, and after they take down another zombie they explode, causing damage to nearby foes. – Cryo Freeze: Applies freeze damage to enemies and slows them down. – Dead Wire: Enemies explode as soon as they get hit, creating a much larger damage radius. – Napalm Burst: Sets enemies on fire causing damage for as long as the flames persist. – Shatter Blast: Causes electric-based damage and stuns enemies while small arcs of lighting hit nearby enemies. Deadshot Daiquiri: ADS (aiming down sight) moves to enemy critical location. Removes scope sway. – Death Perception: Obscured enemies, chests, resources, and item drops are more easily spotted. – Elemental Pop: Every bullet you fire has a small chance to apply a random Ammo Mod effect. – Jugger-Nog: Increases maximum health. – PHD Flopper: Diving to prone triggers an explosion. Reduce the time it takes to revive an ally by 50%. – Speed Cola: Drink to reload and replate armor faster. – Stamin-Up: Increases run and sprint speed. – Tombstone Soda: On death, you create a tombstone stash at that location, containing your backpack inventory in the next game. – Modern Warfare 3 rucksacks explained Like DMZ, Modern Warfare 3 Zombies use contraband stashes and insured weapon slots. Sledgehammer Games explained how the features work in a blog post. Primary and Secondary Weapons: All MWII and MWIII weapons are available to use in Zombies. Any that are “XP Recommended” are denoted by the small fire icon, and grant you more XP if used. – Insured Slots: These are weapons you’ve leveled up, added attachments to, and come from the weapon pool of over 100 MWII and MWIII weapons. If you fail to exfil with an Insured Weapon, it only becomes available again after a Cooldown period. You have up to three Insured Slots, and two of them are unlocked after completing Zombies missions. – Contraband Stashes: These are weapons you’ve found and exfilled with and are permanently lost if left behind during a mission. Keeping a stash of up to 20 of these weapons, which may or may not have attachments added to them, is helpful when augmenting your Loadout. – Tactical and Lethal Equipment: A selection of Multiplayer Tactical and Lethal Equipment can be equipped as part of your Loadout. Tacticals: Stun Grenade, Smoke Grenade, Scatter Mine, Decoy Grenade, Shock Stick, Stim, or Experimental Gas Grenade. – Lethals: Frag Grenade, Claymore, Throwing Knife, Thermite, Proximity Mine, Drill Charge, Sticky Grenade, C4, Molotov Cocktail, Breacher Drone – – That’s everything we know about zombies so far. Fans will almost certainly want to see more remasters too, especially from games like the original Modern Warfare 3 (2011), which had Arkaden, Dome, Seatown, Resistance, and more, all of which were incredibly popular. This should be the first time that players will be able to play some of their favorite modes, such as Hardpoint and Kill Confirmed, on these classic maps, with neither mode in existence when the original MW2 title first launched in November 2009. Modern Warfare 3 is due to launch on November 10, 2023.

Modern Warfare 3: What is the max level cap? – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3: What is the max level cap? ActivisionModern Warfare 3 has just been released, and those who are grinding the game will want to know what the highest level is, so here is everything you need to know about the maximum level cap in MW3. With the release of the much-hyped Modern Warfare 3 now in the hands of players, it means another year for Call of Duty players to flood the servers to get back on the grind once again. Be it unlocking new weapons, camos, or attachments, it’s all part of the annual grind fans know and love. But in the quest to unlock everything, you’ll need to know what MW3’s max level cap is. So here is all you need to know of what MW3’s max level cap is, and what to do after reaching it. What is the max level cap in Modern Warfare 3? At launch, the max level cap for MW3 is Rank 55. Despite being quite low, this cap will most likely not be the final level cap for very long. Just like other CoD titles, as the game goes through its seasons the max Rank cap is increased, with the last season in MW2 reaching up to Rank 850. So it’s most likely MW3 won’t stay at a max of Rank 55 for long. With Season 1 expected to roll out in early December, we can expect an increase to the MW3 level cap along with it. Are there Prestige levels in Modern Warfare 3? Unfortunately, there are no Prestige levels to grind after hitting the level cap of Rank 55 on launch for MW3. This has been a main point of criticism from fans, as this left players feeling unsatisfied after hitting the top rank relatively quickly. However, the devs might be adding back Prestige in the upcoming Season One update which is expected to come out on December 6. However, no mention of Prestige levels has been mentioned yet.
