Modern Warfare 3 March 13 update patch notes: Spawn changes, Haymaker & Longbow nerfs, more ActivisionOn March 13, a small update for both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone dropped, making a number of changes across both games, including ones that fans had asked for in previous updates. Here’s what changed. While we’re only a week out from the Season 2 Reloaded update, there were certain things that developers Sledgehammer Games still wanted to change or fix in Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer. This includes weapon nerfs for some of the more popular meta guns as well as some notable spawn changes on one competitive Ranked map in particular. Here are the full patch notes for the MW3 March 13 update. Modern Warfare 3 LMG is actually one of Warzone’s best guns but it’s “heavily slept on” – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 LMG is actually one of Warzone’s best guns but it’s “heavily slept on” One of Modern Warfare 3’s LMGs is proving to be one of the best guns in Warzone, but it’s still being “heavily slept on” by players. Over the last few years, different weapon types have dominated Warzone at different times. Yet, when it comes to Modern Warfare 3’s cycle, LMGs have seen a bit more love than they ever have before. The big damage dealers have, in the past, been seen as sluggish options that aren’t really worth using. Yet, in MW3, they’ve proven to be one of the best sets of weapons to use across the different maps, and they’re only getting stronger following the Season 4 Reloaded update. That’s according to Warzone guru Metaphor anyway, as he believes the TAQ Evolvere is now one of the best guns in the battle royale, but it’s still being ignored by the majority of players. “This is a gun that many of you guys have never even touched. Trust me, give this gun a try, it’s really, really fun and it’s one of the best guns in the entire game right now and it’s being heavily, heavily slept on,” he said in his July 2 video. “This thing is super easy to control, it is absolutely insane, you can wall bang things with it. It is obviously a little bit slower but this thing packs a punch.” Muzzle: Casus Break – Barrel: LRF Righteous Long Barrel – Underbarrel: Bruen Pivot Vertical – Optic: JAK Glassless Optic – Stock: Rampart Heavy Stock – As noted, the Season 4 Reloaded update heralded some good news for LMGs as a handful of them were buffed. However, the TAQ actually wasn’t touched. So, it’s just naturally become one of the better options around. Metaphor’s take has yet to be reflected with players, though, as WZRanked stats still have it as the 23rd most popular gun in the game. It clearly should be higher than it is, though, as it’s a deadly option.

Modern Warfare 3 leaks claim return of classic mini-map, Ninja perk, new gear system – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 leaks claim return of classic mini-map, Ninja perk, new gear system ActivisionA fresh batch of Call of Duty 2023 leaks hint that Modern Warfare 3 will mark the return of CoD’s traditional mini-map, one with red dots, while also bringing Ninja back into rotation through a new ‘Gear’ system. Like clockwork, as the annual CoD cycle continues and we draw near to 2023’s release, reportedly set to be Modern Warfare 3, new details are continuing to slip through the cracks on a near-daily basis. From leaks of iconic maps supposedly returning to files plucked from Warzone code teasing an in-game reveal event on the horizon, there’s been plenty keeping the community on its toes of late. Now, leaks are only continuing to pile up as the latest batch of intel has suggested a number of features are set to return in Modern Warfare 3 alongside a revamped Perk system in the form of equippable Gear. Modern Warfare 3 to feature traditional CoD mini-map? CoD’s mini-map has been the source of much frustration in recent years. Given the series cycles through developers every year, each studio has its own preferences in how to handle the staple feature. In earlier iterations, when firing an un-silenced weapon, players would appear on the mini-map as a red dot. Shots revealed your location to everyone else in the lobby. In other titles, however, like the most recent Modern Warfare 2, that isn’t the case. Firing any un-silenced weapon still keeps you hidden on the radar. With this year’s looming release, it appears we could be in store for a return to the conventional approach. Leaks from CoD insider ‘BobNetworkUK’ suggest red dots will once again appear on the mini-map. Though given it’s early days yet, and no official details have yet surfaced, it’s obviously worth taking this early intel with a grain of salt. Plans can always change throughout development, so don’t bank on a return to form for CoD’s mini-map just yet. Leaks hint new Gear system on the way in Modern Warfare 3 Also thrown onto the pile of leaks at the same time, the source teased a new Gear system on the way for Modern Warfare 3. One that seemingly revamps or perhaps outright replaces the traditional Perks system. Moving forward, it appears Perks will be tied to specified pieces of equipment under this Gear system. Vest, Boots, and Gloves were all labeled in the leak, with various Perks attached to each piece of armor under the three categories. One such Perk rumored to be rejoining the lineup in 2023 is fan-favorite Ninja. While this Perk has taken many forms over the years, its main function is to reduce or even silence movement-based audio cues, muffling footsteps, jumping sounds, and even the odd Operator grunt. Exactly how it may function in Modern Warfare 3 remains to be seen for the time being, but if leaks hold true, it would mark Ninja’s return after a year on the shelf given its absence from Modern Warfare 2. As always, do take this early information with a heaping serve of salt for now. While these nuggets have supposedly come from a new internal Alpha build, nothing has yet been confirmed. We’ll be sure to keep you posted with all the latest in the lead-up to CoD 2023 as further details emerge.

Modern Warfare 3 leaks hint at TTK reduction & major Tactical Sprint buff – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 leaks hint at TTK reduction & major Tactical Sprint buff ActivisionThe latest round of Modern Warfare 3 leaks have suggested Time To Kill (TTK) will be reduced in the new sequel while Tactical Sprint may also be improved with a new regen feature. With Modern Warfare 3 now official and its in-game reveal event mere days away, leaks are piling up thick and fast. As details bubble up from datamines, alleged playtest sessions, and the like, there’s plenty for avid CoD players to latch onto in the early stages. While plenty has seemingly already been revealed in regard to weapons, maps, and more, the latest batch of MW3 leaks touch on core multiplayer fundamentals instead. It’s worth taking any early tidbits with a grain of salt until confirmed, but if new leaks hold true, it appears TTK will be reduced in the upcoming CoD launch and Tac Sprint may be more useful than ever before. Fresh intel comes from a newer Twitter leaker who dropped two key bits of information on August 15. They claimed that players will have 150HP in Multiplayer, up from the standard 100HP in years prior. While also adding that “Tactical Sprint regenerates during regular sprint.” For the first point, this means, assuming weapon balance remains roughly the same, TTK should be noticeably slower in Modern Warfare 3. Adding an extra 50HP should help players survive another shot or two, thereby making it more difficult to secure a kill and subsequently increasing the skill ceiling. Rapid TTK has been a concern through the MW2 cycle, and should this leak hold up, it appears devs are looking to address the feedback head-on by ramping up player health in MW3. Next up, Tactical Sprint could become even more vital in this year’s launch if early details remain accurate. Should Tac Sprint now regenerate during regular sprint, players will be moving around the map much faster than before. Given the recent dev confirmation of slide canceling being back in the mix too, MW3’s movement could be far more intricate than that of previous years. As a result, given Warzone’s looming integration, we can expect the hit Battle Royale to adopt this movement change as well. We’ll have to see if this all comes to fruition as Activision lifts the veil on Modern Warfare 3 over the coming days and weeks. Be sure to check back often as we’ll keep you posted here with all the latest updates.

Modern Warfare 3 leaker claims Advanced Warfare’s guns will return – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 leaker claims Advanced Warfare’s guns will return ActivisionA well-known leaker claims four weapons from Call of Duty Advanced Warfare will make their way to Modern Warfare 3 in a future season. As one of the most dominating FPS titles on the market, Call of Duty is no stranger to leaks. The night before COD Next 2023, a leaker showed off hours of Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer footage. Leaks are a part of the CoD cycle, and, with a little over a month until the full title launches, leaks have come pouring in for the game’s post-launch content now that the game is almost here. The latest batch of leaks comes from a well-known leaker who claims MW3 will get a nostalgia trip from a divisive Sledgehammer Games’ title many fans stand by to this day: Advanced Warfare. Four weapons from Advanced Warfare will join Modern Warfare 3 The latest leak comes from Twitter user el_bobberto, claiming Season 3 of Modern Warfare 3 will bring back four weapons from Advanced Warfare. el_bobberto’s claims come from a quoted tweet to which they respond to an image from Advanced Warfare’s Atlas Corporation. They claim four weapons from the older title will return: the EM1 energy weapon, ASM1 submachine gun, Bal-27 assault rifle, and MORS sniper rifle. The leaker clarifies the numbers next to each weapon refer to the weapon’s platform. If these leaks prove true, the four returning guns will have their own weapon platform. When MW3 was revealed, it was clear it would be a love letter to previous Call of Duty titles. Should these leaks prove true, it’ll be interesting to see what else Sledgehammer Games has up its sleeve with future content.

Modern Warfare 3 leaked logo and artwork show fan-favorite character’s return – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 leaked logo and artwork show fan-favorite character’s return Infinity WardA recent leak of the artwork and logo for Modern Warfare 3 gives fans a glimpse of fan-favorite Captain Price making a comeback. Despite several circulating rumors about what the next title may be, Activision made sure to remain tight-lipped when it came to any information regarding what was to come. Originally, it was pure speculation that the next title in the series would be Modern Warfare 3, but new leaked advertising materials may have proven that these assumptions were correct. Monster Energy and Modern Warfare 3 collaboration surfaces In a recent Twitter post, eager fans get a taste of what could be coming to the latest installment in the Call of Duty series. The images clearly show that the game will be titled “Modern Warfare 3.” But they also show that a fan-favorite main protagonist from the original Modern Warfare sub-series is making yet another appearance in the franchise. Within the images, we not only see Captain Price and a red MWIII logo, but we see a pair of eyes looming within the background. These are speculated to belong to none other than Vladimir Makarov, one of the main villains from the Modern Warfare Trilogy. It was rumored earlier this year that the development of Call of Duty 2023 would be led by Sledgehammer games and all of the Modern Warfare 2 operators, weapons, and bundles would be carried over into the latest installment in the series. There were also claims that the modes and maps from MW2 would be making an appearance within the new game, but all of these rumors and claims have yet to be confirmed by Activision at this time.

Modern Warfare 3 leak reveals two iconic multiplayer maps – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 leak reveals two iconic multiplayer maps Infinity WardWe still don’t know much about the next Call of Duty game, which is rumored to be Modern Warfare 3. However, a leak may have given fans a sneak peek at the title’s first two maps. Insider Gaming reported that Call of Duty 2023 will be called Modern Warfare 3 (MW3). All signs point towards Sledgehammer Games leading the project. As for gameplay details, Tom Henderson and other reliable COD insiders claimed there will be a continuation of MW2’s story, new multiplayer content, and more. Initially, a leak suggested the next COD would be premium DLC instead of a full game. These details also noted the new game would feature maps from Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and Sledgehammer’s catalog, celebrating the franchise’s 20th anniversary. We may not be getting premium DLC, but a new leak showed classic maps that could potentially be coming to Modern Warfare 3. Scrapyard and Terminal leaked as Modern Warfare 3 maps On May 19, leaker CoD_Perseus shared early design images for the next COD entry. The first two images showcase Terminal, a map from MW2 (2009). Terminal is a medium-sized battlefield that set in an airport. The beloved multiplayer received remakes in MW3 (2011), Infinite Warfare, and COD Mobile. Terminal is also a POI in Warzone 2 but only includes a few elements from the original map. The second set of images comes from Scrapyard. The small-scale multiplayer environment takes place in an aircraft junkyard with airplane parts scattered around as cover. The map has only ever appeared in the original MW2 and COD Mobile. The leaker added: “I also can’t confirm if they’re real.” With that in mind, both map leaks need to be taken with a pinch of salt, as they have not yet been confirmed by the developers. As for when fans can get their hands on Modern Warfare 3, Insider Gaming reported the game will launch on November 10, with a reveal trailer coming in August.

Modern Warfare 3 leak reveals slide canceling may return to Warzone – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 leak reveals slide canceling may return to Warzone ActivisionSlide canceling could finally return to Warzone after a Modern Warfare 3 leak revealed the fan-favorite movement feature. Modern Warfare 2019 introduced slide canceling, which made it easier to get around the map faster or finesse enemies in a gunfight. Some players argued that learning how to use the mechanic properly served as an effective tool for separating skilled and non-skilled players. Infinity Ward controversially removed slide canceling in Warzone 2, and community members overwhelmingly flamed the decision. Without the ability to slide, angered fans argued that it became too hard to escape an engagement or reposition quicker on the map. Fortunately for those players disappointed by slide cancel’s removal, it appears Modern Warfare 3 may finally deliver a long-awaited reunion. Modern Warfare 3 Warzone leak reveals slide canceling On July 25, Warzone streamer Metaphor revealed: “Slide canceling is in the current build.” The reliable leaker also revealed that slide canceling was originally in Modern Warfare 2 before the devs removed it. Metaphor claimed that the game looks like an improved version of Modern Warfare 2 but hopes for smoother and faster animations. Community members celebrated the news, but also had a few questions. Players wanted to know if Multiplayer would also have slide canceling as well. CharlieIntel responded: “I hope so – this is a Sledgehammer Games title, so hopefully they do it!” Not everyone wants slide canceling back. One player argued: “Hopefully, no slide canceling back at all. Way better without it.” Some community members questioned if they could trust Metaphor’s information. Metaphor was the first to confirm that Warzone 2 removed slide canceling. Even though he has been correct in the past, it’s important to take all leaks with a pinch of salt. Especially if it’s true that Infinity Ward removed the feature after originally having it in Warzone 2.

Modern Warfare 3 leak reveals launch weapons, equipment, & killstreaks – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 leak reveals launch weapons, equipment, & killstreaks ActivisionIt’s that time of the year again when Call of Duty leaks start trickling out. Most recently, a datamine revealed Modern Warfare 3’s launch weapon roster, along with a few equipment items and killstreaks. News around Call of Duty 2023 is still shrouded in mystery, but that’s all about to change. Activision confirmed there will be a worldwide reveal event for the upcoming game at some point during Season 5 in Warzone 2. Leaks suggest the in-game event will take place on August 17. Leaks also indicate the game will be called Modern Warfare 3 and developed by Sledgehammer Games. Additionally, rumors lean toward the classic mini-map and Ninka perk returning. Besides those few nuggets, there is still much to unwrap before the rumored November 10 release date. However, a leaked weapon roster certainly unveils one of the biggest pieces of the puzzle fans have been waiting for. Modern Warfare 3 weapon roster leaked Here is the full list of the leaked Modern Warfare 3 leaked weapons, equipment items, and killstreaks. Infinity Ward introduced Receivers in Modern Warfare 2, fundamentally changing how guns work. For example, the M4 assault rifle and FSS Hurricane SMG are different classes but fall under the same Platform. Unlocking M4 attachments also unlocks FSS Hurricane attachments because they are in the same Platform. The new system eliminated the need to pour countless hours into each weapon to unlock individual attachments, but it provided its own consequences. Some community members complained about the convoluted attachment unlock process. For instance, players argued it didn’t make sense that they needed to level up a sniper rifle to unlock a shotgun attachment just because they are categorized in the same platform. It remains to be seen if COD 2023 will use this system, but it’s worth watching. And as with any leak, it’s important to take it with a pinch of salt. That’s everything we know about the upcoming game’s weapon pool. For more, check out the rest of our Modern Warfare 3 coverage.

Modern Warfare 3 leak reveals grim fate for last-gen players – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 leak reveals grim fate for last-gen players ActivisionAfter three years of COD coming to both old and new-gen consoles, that run may be coming to an end with Modern Warfare 3. In 2020, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launched the series onto the next generation of consoles. For the first time in franchise history, COD players could experience what it felt like to play multiplayer and battle royale matches with 120 FPS, ray tracing, and lightning-fast load times. Thankfully for a large segment of players who struggled to secure a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, Activision ensured no man was left. Black Ops Cold War, Vanguard, and MW2 also launched on previous-gen consoles. For historical reference, Black Ops 3 was the final game on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. That means PS3 and Xbox 360 clung on for three years until the series moved entirely over to the latest hardware. A Modern Warfare 3 leak reveals that a similar timeline could be in the cards. Will Modern Warfare 3 be on Xbox One and PS4? On August 10, reliable COD leaker TheGhostOfHope shared an image of a rating listing for Modern Warfare 3, and under platforms, it only listed Xbox Series X|S. This implies that MW2 is the final Xbox One and PS4 series entry. However, TheGhostOfHope clarified, “It looks like it’ll be available on PS4/PS5 according to Sony, BUT there have been games where they were available on PS4 but not on Xbox One. Could be another case of that here.” Inevitably, the news will disappoint some community members who haven’t made the jump yet, but most fans celebrated the rumor. One player responded: “It’s about time Developers start utilizing the power of current-gen consoles.” A second user added, “Games today shouldn’t be held back by 2013 hardware anymore.” Before celebrating too soon, one player questioned why weapons, operators, and bundles would carry over from MW2 to MW3 if last-gen players don’t even have access to the game. As with any rumor, it’s important to take any leak with a pinch of salt. Hopefully, Modern Warfare 3’s in-game reveal event confirms or denies the fate of last-gen players.

Modern Warfare 3 leak reveals fate of operators and weapon skins from previous game – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 leak reveals fate of operators and weapon skins from previous game ActivisionModern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 players fear losing their cosmetic purchases based on previous history. However, a leak revealed that it may be worth spending your COD Points in preparation for Modern Warfare 3. Infinity Ward controversially blocked previously purchased Operators, weapon skins, and blueprints from carrying over to WZ2 from WZ1. Players were still able to use the cosmetic items they purchased in Warzone Caldera, but the devs announced the game’s servers are shutting down on September 21, 2023. Players can still access those cosmetic items in Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard, but free-to-play users are out of luck. In February, some MW2 community members demanded cosmetic refunds, as they believed there would be a second year of the game’s life cycle. Despite a new COD game coming out, the devs may have backtracked on their previous stance this time around. Modern Warfare 3 leak reveals Operators and weapons carry over COD leaker BobNetworkUK alleged: “MWII Operators and weapons could transfer over to MWII.” Leaked images of the Modern Warfare 3 weapon lineup corroborated their claim. “Sources have claimed this before, but this has been further reinforced by the TAQ-V (an MWII weapon) showing up in leaked photos of the MWIII weapon roster.” One player responded: “If this all comes true, I would have no issue putting money on this game.” A transfer of cosmetics would also mean players would be able to use their favorite weapons again in Modern Warfare 3. “Oh good, that means MWIII’s weapon roster is just an addition to MWII’s without wiping everything clean, as it should be,” a second user added.” Other community members took a different tone with the announcement, as a third fan asked: “Why do I want the guns I just played an entire year with?” It is important to take every leak with a pinch of salt. Even if the weapons carry over from MW2, that doesn’t necessarily mean cosmetics items will transfer as well. For more, check out the rest of the Modern Warfare 3 leaks.

Modern Warfare 3 leak reveals fan-favorite gunsmith feature – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 leak reveals fan-favorite gunsmith feature ActivisionA Modern Warfare 3 leak revealed that the game will feature detailed weapon statistics, as seen in Call of Duty Cold War and Vanguard. Without content creators or statistic websites like WZ Ranked or TrueGameData, It would be almost impossible to tell what Warzone weapon balancing updates or attachments change. For example, the Season 5 Reloaded update buffed the M13B. In the official patch notes, the devs stated: “All location damage multipliers increased.” Then, for attachments in MW2, the Tempus GH50 muzzle increases vertical recoil while decreasing ADS speed and aiming stability. Without specifics, players are just going off feel for what’s better. But previously, Activision cut out the middle man for us and described in detail how weapons change. If you were to dig up an old Warzone Pacific update like the December 9, 2021 update, the devs clearly stated: “Neck damage increased to 250, up from 200” for the Crossbow, or an attachment would clearly state how it impacts a weapon’s stats. That sort of transparency may return in Modern Warfare 3. Detailed weapon stats rumored to return in Modern Warfare 3 On September 8, Call of Duty leaker bob revealed: “Detailed weapon stats will be returning in Modern Warfare 3.” As a reference point, the leaker included an image from Black Ops Cold War, and it’s staggering how much information players could sift through. You can clearly see how a suppressor impacts the XM4’s damage, fire rate, bullet velocity, and other important mobility and reload speeds. Community members celebrated the rumor but also questioned its impact on the COD content creation landscape. One player asked: “So what are the JGods of the world gonna do if these are accurate stats?” To counter, TrueGameData argued that build websites will still be important even if stats do make a return: “I feel like just raw stats doesn’t help many people build guns. It’s the comparison tools that help. Unique ways of presenting the data to the user to help them come to conclusions about which options are best.” Other players questioned why Modern Warfare 2 removed the feature to begin with. A commenter added: “Showing the detailed stats is something that weapon tuning should have shown off.” As with any leak, it’s important to take this rumor with a grain of salt. Modern Warfare 3 July 2 update patch notes: Conversion kit fixes, camo & challenge progression, more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 July 2 update patch notes: Conversion kit fixes, camo & challenge progression, more ActivisionAnother patch has arrived for Modern Warfare 3, bringing changes to the way certain progression challenges unlock and tweaks to the game’s conversion kits. One of the most significant changes to progression is that using the Underbarrel grenade launcher attachment will now count towards any challenges that require double kills with a grenade. Modern Warfare 3 is currently the top Twitch game with 400k viewers & no one knows why – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 is currently the top Twitch game with 400k viewers & no one knows why Activision / TwitchModern Warfare 3 is arguably one of the greatest Call of Duty games in franchise history. Fast forward 11 years from its 2011 release, it’s currently the most-watched game on Twitch with over 400K viewers and no one has any idea why. Call of Duty has been known for its annual releases. Although the company plans to stop that, it has been a staple for fans since 2005. This has brought many iterations of the popular Modern Warfare series. Modern Warfare 2 was loved by many and MW3 got the same love, if not, better, than its predecessor. Now, on March 13, 11 years after it was launched, Modern Warfare 3 is smashing Twitch viewership and no one seems to know why. Why does Modern Warfare 3 have over 400K Twitch viewers? Fans were shocked to load Twitch on March 13 to find out that Modern Warfare 3 was actually the most-watched game on the platform with over 400K viewers. As seen in the screenshot, the only category that had more viewers than the FPS was Just Chatting. Now, you are probably wondering why this game, 11 years after its release and with the likes of Warzone out, has this many viewers. Turns out that Spanish streamer IlloJuan is hosting a massive throwback tournament. This has the likes of Ibai, TheGrefg, and other popular streamers taking part in the event. Community reacts to MW3 blowing up on Twitch Multiple accounts across social media were posting about the game’s milestone on Twitch, including CharlieIntel. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is currently the most watched game on Twitch, only behind Just Chatting category. https://t.co/Jx9N29bpzM pic.twitter.com/yWt35m8EHJ — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) March 13, 2022 As people congratulated the game on reaching this achievement, CoD fans from around the world were going nuts over the viewer count. One person said, “this is what we love to see.” While another added, “holy s**t, W!” Lots of other comments “let’s go” and “POG” surfaced on Twitter. This has now surpassed the current CoD title, Vanguard, which has only peaked at 330K viewers since releasing in November 2021.

Modern Warfare 3 Groot skin disabled after mass complaints over “pay-to-win” Operator – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 Groot skin disabled after mass complaints over “pay-to-win” Operator ActivisionModern Warfare 3 developers Sledgehammer Games have temporarily disabled the highly divisive Gaia skin, more commonly referred to as “Groot,” in the November 30 update, after weeks of complaints from players. While the Groot skin didn’t arrive with Modern Warfare 3, and was instead carried forward from Modern Warfare 2, it has become a far bigger problem with the launch of the new game as more players have become exposed to it and realized just how broken it is. Ever since it launched, the Gaia skin has been a major cause for concern from players, both in Warzone and multiplayer, as the see-through nature of the skin makes it incredibly difficult to see in combat, akin to the Roze skin of yesteryear that traumatized players in Verdansk when it first came out. In the November 30 MW3 update, though, the skin has finally been disabled as the devs look to find a way to make it more fair, amid ongoing “pay-to-win” arguments from players killed by those using it. Groot skin disabled in MW3 & Warzone According to Call of Duty‘s X, formerly known as Twitter, post, both the Gaia and Gaia BlackCell Operator Skins are being temporarily disabled to resolve those visibility issues. The developer stated that these skins won’t be gone forever, saying “[p]layers can expect these items to be re-enabled in a future game update with changes to ease target identification.” One, perhaps in the spirit of the holidays, quipped that they should add Christmas lights to the skin to help make it more visible. Whatever the devs decide to do, MW3 and Warzone players can game with the knowledge that there isn’t a player hidden among those plants in the corner.

Modern Warfare 3 finally removing controversial MW2 feature players hated – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 finally removing controversial MW2 feature players hated ActivisionSledgehammer Games has removed Weapon Tuning from Modern Warfare 3 after community feedback. Weapon Tuning was first introduced in MW2, which was released in 2022 under the developer Infinity Ward. This feature would allow players to enter Gunsmith and intricately tweak all of the additional attachments for each gun in the game. MW2 was the first Call of Duty title to introduce Weapon Tuning to the Gunsmith – and it was met with mixed reviews. Some players appreciated the idea of tuning to achieve a desired gun play, but others were frustrated with the lack of clarity to what exactly they were tweaking. As the release of MW3 closes in, Sledgehammer are beginning to close in on what the final version of the game will look like to players. The first step to this was removing the weaponing tuning system and making Gunsmith ‘easier’ to use. MW3 does away with Weapon Tuning in Gunsmith In the latest Call of Duty blog, Sledgehammer addressed the Weapon Tuning feature directly. The change is stated to be made after taking community feedback into account. “Based on community feedback, Sledgehammer Games has removed the Weapon Tuning feature present in MW2 and has made further improvements to make Gunsmith easier to use,” says the post. “This change to Weapon Tuning applies to both MW3 and MW3 weapons that utilize modifications.” The news of Weapon Tuning being removed from the game was considered a ‘W’ by the fan base, with some people saying that the feature made making loadouts a long process and others saying it was almost ‘useless’ for casual players. “Weapon Tuning is cool but in my opinion it’s almost useless for casual players,” said one Twitter user. “People are going to look up a loadout with the best attachments and tuning anyway.” Sledgehammer continues to prove that they are willing to listen to community feedback with the release of their most recent title. Players can jump into MW3 when it releases globally on November 10.

Modern Warfare 3 finally addresses Warzone water combat complaints – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 finally addresses Warzone water combat complaints ActivisionRaven Software listened to community feedback and made Warzone water combat more accessible in Modern Warfare 3. WZ2 introduced water combat and the controversial mechanic divided players. The battle royale’s main map, Al Mazrah, featured some bodies of water, but frustrations truly mounted when Ashika Island launched. The island-based Resurgence map has several waterways and regularly forces players to engage in water combat. Issues arose because the only weapons you could fire underwater were pistols. So, if you didn’t have a handgun as a secondary weapon, you were out of luck. And those complaints only grew louder with the introduction of Vondel. The dense urban setting is surrounded by water, and players use pistols to take advantage of swimming combat. Some community members pleaded for the devs to remove water combat entirely in Modern Warfare 3. But Raven Software instead announced a compromise to make the divisive mechanic less painful if you don’t have a pistol on hand. Modern Warfare 3 Warzone water combat changes explained Along with a whole host of other new features, CharlieIntel reported that players will always have a pistol while swimming. During COD Next, fans got a glimpse of what the new mechanic looks like in-game. While in the water, players were able to use a pistol with no attachments while swimming, even if they didn’t have one equipped. However, it remains to be seen if players will be able to customize their default water pistol loadouts. If players aren’t allowed to add attachments to their automatic handgun loadout, it may still be worth building a specialized water loadout for those special occasions when a final circle requires it. We won’t know for sure until Warzone officially releases. But it will certainly come into play, as Raven Software confirmed the new battle royale launches with Ashika Island and Vondel as playable maps. While we all wait for the new battle royale experience, make sure to check out the rest of our MW3 Warzone coverage.

Modern Warfare 3 fans stunned by “amazing” Zombies first look – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 fans stunned by “amazing” Zombies first look ActivisionTreyarch and Sledgehammer revealed the first cinematic trailer for Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, and it blew fans away. Modern Warfare 3 Zombies boldly departs from traditional round-base zombie gameplay in favor of a PvE mode that supports multiple squads of four up to 24 players. Teams go up against human and zombie enemies and complete exfils to progress the story. Some fan-favorite features return to help expedite the process, such as the Pack-a-Punch machine, Perk machines, Mystery Boxes, and purchase wall weapons. The story follows after Viktor Zakhaev, an ultranationalist arms dealer, starts a zombie outbreak. It’s up to your team to stop Zakhaev and his private military from extracting more resources and containing the outbreak. The first MW3 Zombies trailer showed the series of events previously mentioned, and it made a strong first impression on community members. Modern Warfare 3 Zombies trailer impresses fans On September 19, Sledgehammer Games and Treyarch revealed a four-minute cinematic trailer for Zombies. Zakhaev steals two viles of an active substance, but the plan goes sideways, and military police outnumber the COD villain and his crew. In an act of desperation, Zakhaev throws one of the containers, and it releases a purple smoke that turns everyone into zombies. Zakhaev drives off with one other survivor. In the event’s aftermath, SSO Kate Laswell, Sergeant Johnny “Soap” MacTavish, Captain Sergei Ravenovand, and a fourth unseen operator launch Operation Deadbolt to take down the ultranationalist arms dealer. Community members universally praised the fast-paced and action-packed trailer. One Modern Warfare 3 fan responded: “This game just gets better with every trailer.” Moving away from round-based zombies is a hard pill to swallow, but as a second user put it: “This cinematic is sick. I still wish we were getting round-based zombies, but I’m willing to try this new mode.” And comparing the game to Modern Warfare 2, a third commenter claimed: “This game looks better in every way, shape, and form.” There is still much to learn about Zombies before Modern Warfare 3 releases worldwide on November 10.

Modern Warfare 3 fans split over “weird” slide cancel & ADS speeds – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 fans split over “weird” slide cancel & ADS speeds ActivisionThe Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer reveal trailer provided a first glimpse at the game’s movement. And one small clip of slide canceling was enough to send the community into a frenzy. Sledgehammer Games has built up excitement for Modern Warfare 3 by delivering community-driven changes. First, MW3 makes a bold departure with its time-to-kill speed by increasing base health in multiplayer to 150. The upcoming series entry also marks the return of map voting and the classic minimap with red dots. And last but certainly not least, slide canceling is back. Fans became slightly skeptical when they learned that slide canceling does not reset a tactical sprint like seen in previous titles. The MW3 devs stepped in and reassured fans by boldly claiming: “Movement feels even better than it looks.” After fans got their first look at that movement in action, some community members started to question if that claim would hold true. Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer reveal trailer divides players On October 3, Sledgehammer Games released the multiplayer reveal trailer. Most of the footage was cinematic and didn’t show off gameplay. However, one of the few gameplay clips showed off slide canceling and ADS speed. ModernWarzone posted the short clip, and it sparked a heated debate in the comment section over whether or not sliding and aiming is fast enough. One fan asked: Why does the movement look so off and weird?” A second user added: “I wish it were a little smoother.” Other COD community members did their best to clear up any confusion around the perceived slower movement speed. JGOD responded to a fan criticizing the movement speed by explaining that the trailer was most likely shown at a higher FOV, which wouldn’t accurately represent the actual movement speed. And TheGhostOfHope argued: “That’s a battle rifle with some attachments like a suppressor and foregrip, by the way, for anybody thinking this ADS is still slow.” Everyone will get a definitive answer when the Modern Warfare 3 beta begins on October 6.

Modern Warfare 3 fans praise visual improvements after Shroud slams MW2 – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 fans praise visual improvements after Shroud slams MW2 ActivisionShroud called out Modern Warfare 2 for poor visual recoil, but fortunately, Modern Warfare 3 footage shows a stark improvement. Visual recoil is an FPS term used to describe how much the in-game camera shakes when you fire a weapon, while muzzle smoke describes the effects that pop up on screen while firing a weapon. The combination of both makes it a nightmare to see clearly in Modern Warfare 2 and especially challenging for PC players. Some community members argue that PC players suffer more because aim assist helps controller users overcome both visual hindrances. Frustrations mounted in August as Warzone 2 players hit out at the devs over the “busted” visibility levels. Different muzzle and barrel attachments are advertised to improve visual feedback, yet players aren’t satisfied with their performance and plead for a muzzle smoke decrease. Battle royale expert and former CS: GO pro-Shroud credited visual impairments for pushing him away from playing Warzone, but Modern Warfare 3 may resolve his biggest complaints. Modern Warfare 3 players impressed by decreased visual recoil Sledgehammer Games gave fans a first look at Modern Warfare 3 gameplay during Gamescom 2023. The presentation featured a playthrough of one of the game’s campaign missions. ModernWarzone posted a snippet of the gunplay shown during the mission, and a decrease in visual recoil and muzzle smoke impressed community members. Basketball fans will be familiar with Kevin O’Connor for his NBA coverage with the Ringer. But the writer enjoys playing and streaming Warzone as well, and commented: “Can actually see what you’re shooting at.” A second user added: “I feel like this is an improvement in Modern Warfare 3 vs MWII. But, the smoke from the muzzles definitely still needs looking at.” Other community members weren’t ready to celebrate just yet, arguing campaign and multiplayer use different gun physics. A third commentor responded: “I would like to remind you all that this is campaign and back in every cod campaign every weapon had little to none recoil.” Players will be able to find out for themselves soon if anything changed, when the Modern Warfare 3 beta kicks off in October.

Modern Warfare 3 fans outraged amid reports of scrapped MW3 Pick 10 system – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 fans outraged amid reports of scrapped MW3 Pick 10 system Modern Warfare 3Modern Warfare 3 will not feature a Pick 10 loadout system that was present in other titles according to reports from Bloomberg. As its name implies, the Pick 10 system gives the player the ability to choose 10 elements to make up their loadout. These typically consist of a primary, secondary, perks, and equipment like lethals and tacticals. This feature has been present in Call of Duty since Black Ops 2 and has consistently remained in the game in different iterations since then. With some titles including equipment like Wild Cards and Operator mods. With the latest instalment in the CoD franchise the Pick 10 system will look different than in previous versions. According to the reports, the new system is a morphed version of what was previously implemented. Infinity Ward reportedly removed Pick 10 system from MW3 Sledgehammer Games is the current developer for MW3. However, as it is a continuation of MW2, the previous developer, Infinity Ward, still plays a role in its development. The most recent adjustment made by Infinity Ward to MW3’s multiplayer involved replacing the original Pick 10 system with a new version. Upon seeing reports of this change, players expressed dissatisfaction and criticized Infinity Ward for making a ‘horrible’ decision. “Infinity Ward got to put their two cents in what others are doing,” said one user. “Let the team build how they want it.” Some users on Twitter were even calling for Infinity Ward to stop developing CoD games altogether following this ‘L’ decision. “Infinity Ward truly should never touch Call of duty again, let’s not forget Ghosts or Infinite Warfare,” said another user. “The old IW from 2009 is not the IW from 2019!” Sledgehammer have not made any comments on the current Pick 10 system, or lack thereof. However, the developers have proven to make positive changes to the game following player feedback.

Modern Warfare 3 fans hope it eliminates MW2’s most annoying combo – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 fans hope it eliminates MW2’s most annoying combo ActivisionCall of Duty fans are hopeful that the dreaded riot shield combination will disappear when Modern Warfare 3 is released. The riot shield was first introduced in the survival trailer for Modern Warfare 3 when it was originally released in 2011. Ever since players have been using it to create sneaky plays that often leave those on the receiving end frustrated. There have been different iterations of the riot shield that have been released with each CoD title. All developers have approached the riot shield differently in terms of what it can be equipped with. From fully automatic weapons to just shotguns the severity of the riot shield meta has varied. However, fans of the game are hoping that Sledgehammer Games will prevent it from plaguing MW3. CoD fans plead with Sledgehammer Games to remove the riot shield combo Redditor ExtensionAd brought up the idea of nerfing the riot shields through a post in the official MW3 subreddit. The original post titled ‘I hope they get rid of riot shield on back this game’ brought awareness to the uptick in players using the riot shield during the last title. “Seriously, nearly after 12 months you have people level 1000+ running SAB/SPR/Vaznev with riot shields on their back with zero penalty,” said ExtensionAd. “I can’t believe IW was too braindead to ever do anything about this for a whole fkn year. I don’t have a problem with people using riot shields as their primary, but using it as a cheap way to protect 45% of your model has got to go.” While others under the post agreed with the sentiment that riot shield should not be included as a secondary, the reality of Sledgehammer doing anything to prevent this meta from returning is not great. One user pointed out that during the beta of MW3 they had a kills streak that allowed players to become a juggernaut, covered in armor with a personal UAV and overpowered shotgun. With this added into the beta, some players were skeptical that the riot shields would magically disappear with the latest addition to the CoD franchise. It remains to be seen if the final version allows for this much-hated combo.

Modern Warfare 3 fans hit out at “horrific” inconsistent TTK – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 fans hit out at “horrific” inconsistent TTK ActivisionModern Warfare 3 players are taking aim at the game’s “horrific” and “inconsistent” TTK which they claim is ruining gun fights. Modern Warfare 3 was finally released for all players on November 10. While the game was generally praised by the community during its beta, fans are already putting MW3’s “horrific” TTK on blast. TTK, or time-to-kill, has often been a cause of debate among Call of Duty players. During MW3’s beta, many were up in arms over the “atrocious” inconsistent TTK times, which are much longer than MW2’s speedy TTK. MW3 player slams “horrific” inconsistent TTK On November 11, one CoD fan kicked off a Reddit thread discussing what are the two worst things about MW3’s multiplayer so far. According to OP, the worst thing in the game is the “horrific” and “inconsistent” TTK, explaining it’s ruining gun fights in Modern Warfare 3. “The hit detection is horrific,” they wrote. “The shoot first and dies, inconsistent TTK ruins the entire point of gunfights in this game.” On top of that, the player explained that MW3’s connection issue, which plays a part in the “god awful” hit detection, is the next big problem in the game. “The connection which probably is part of the bad hit detection… is god awful. The latency, ping, connection meters mean nothing if I have a low ping but still lag everywhere,” the user added. Others in the replies noted several other pressing issues in Modern Warfare 3, such as the “pointlessly convoluted unlock system.” However, many agreed that the game’s TTK and lag are at the top of their list. “Hit detection and TTK as well. The lag is so bad,” said one. “I’m sure it’s a lag thing and I’m actually not shooting first. It’s so maddening.” “Definitely the hit detection and inconsistent TTK,” wrote another. “My K/D is horrible already because it seems like I get dropped with 3 bullets but it takes like 8 for me to get a kill.” “I hate the TTK. Feels like every gun is shooting peas. Tried using my MW2 guns and they were even worse,” said a third. It’s unclear whether or not we’ll see Sledgehammer Games take action and resolve complaints. However, we’ll keep you updated right here on Dexerto if they do.

Modern Warfare 3 fans dread return of controversial perk in Warzone – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 fans dread return of controversial perk in Warzone Treyarch/ActivisionRaven Software revealed that the Combat Scout perk returns to Warzone in Modern Warfare 3, and the announcement drew groans from community members. Modern Warfare 3 does away with traditional perks in favor of using a gear system. Gloves improve weapon handling, Boots improve operator movement, Vests offer loadout versatility, and Gear brings back familiar perks. For example, Tactical Pads increase slide distance and allow for full ADS while sliding, and Commando Gloves enable reloading while sprinting. Warzone also introduces three new perks of its own. Shrouded deploys a smoke grenade when a player gets downed. Irradiated makes it possible for players to move faster and take less damage in the gas. And, finally, Resolute takes inspiration from WZ1’s Serpentine Perk and increases movement speed when damaged. But Resolute isn’t the only callback to WZ1. Raven Software confirmed that Combat Scout will be back in Modern Warfare 3, dredging up painful memories for Warzone veterans. Combat Scout returns to Warzone in Modern Warfare 3 CharlieIntel sarcastically reported: “Everyone’s favorite Warzone perk is back: Combat Scout returns.” If you didn’t play WZ1, Combat Scout is a perk that briefly highlights an enemy and marks them for the entire squad after damaging an enemy. In 2021, community members pleaded for a nerf to the “unbalanced” perk, as it forced players to use the Cold Blooded perk, which made players immune to Combat Scout. As a result, players were forced to always equip Cold Blooded, eliminating loadout variety. In the COD Next Warzone blog, developers confirmed Combat Scout’s Warzone return. The devs explained that the perk pings an enemy when they are hit with a bullet. Based on Raven Software’s description, it appears Combat Scout will work the same as it did in WZ1. But players will get a better idea of how powerful the perk is when Modern Warfare 3’s battle royale officially goes live.

Modern Warfare 3 fans divided over controversial weapon progression changes – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 fans divided over controversial weapon progression changes ActivisionSome community members wanted a complete teardown of the Gunsmith in Modern Warfare 3, but the devs offered a compromise instead. Call of Duty community members have taken issue with how weapon progression and the Gunsmith worked in previous titles. Players slammed Vanguard for requiring a “ridiculous” average of six hours to unlock every attachment for a weapon. Modern Warfare 2 attempted to resolve that issue with weapon platforms, which removed the need to re-unlock attachments for different weapons. Unfortunately, the new feature still didn’t sit well with players, as the “mind-boggling” system forced the use of unnecessary weapons. For example, players would have to level up a shotgun to unlock an SMG attachment. Sledgehammer Games went back to the drawing board and unveiled a new plan to tackle the lingering issue in MW3. Modern Warfare 3 Gunsmith enhancements revealed On October 2, the MW3 devs explained how Aftermarket Parts work in an Intel Drop. But buried in the bottom of a blog post, CharlieIntel also caught wind of a Gunsmith update. The Call of Duty insider summed up the news: “Attachments such as Grips, Barrels, Magazines, and Stocks will no longer require players to use a specific weapon after they’ve already been unlocked for another one.” Sledgehammer Games provided an example. “The Assault Stock attachment is available for both the AMR9 SMG (at Level 8) and the Riveter Shotgun (at Level 12). If your AMR9 is already progressed to Level 8 or higher, the Stock will be available on the Riveter immediately, and vice versa.” Modern Warfare 3 also removes the ADS speed penalty when equipping a 1x zoom optic, which annoyed MW2 players. Despite the announcement of both positive quality-of-life changes, players still have issues with the current Gunsmith system. To start with, some players want the “overcomplicated” attachment system to revert back to the classic pick 10. In MW2, you can equip five different attachments and tune each one to perform differently. Meanwhile, the Pick 10 system limited players to 10 choices between primary weapons, secondary weapons, weapon attachments, grenades, gadgets, and perks. As one player argued: “Just give us the “pick 10″ system back. Why do I have to play chemist in building a d**n weapon?” “Just make it simple again,” a second user added. On the opposite side of the aisle, other community members praised a step in the right direction, with comments such as: “Oh sweet, they’re listening to us. About d**m time!” Players will better understand how the new Gunsmith works when the Modern Warfare 3 beta starts on October 6.

Modern Warfare 3 fans displeased with PS5 Slim bundle leak – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 fans displeased with PS5 Slim bundle leak Twitter: _tlyerModern Warfare 3 will be bundled with the new PS5 Slim according to leaked images that surfaced on Twitter, and fans aren’t happy with it. The new Call of Duty title has got fans talking after a successful beta and new support from Microsoft. With this talk comes the question as to whether the game will receive its own PS5 bundle. MW3 is a continuation of MW2 but developed by a different game studio. Sledgehammer Games have already made community-driven changes to the game which has added to the excitement for its official release. PlayStation revealed its upcoming addition to the PS5 lineup with the PS5 Slim on October 10. The Slim will be released as early as November 8 with the Spider-Man 2 bundle. MW3 will be the second blockbuster title to be paired with the Slim. MW3 will be bundled with the new PS5 Slim Leakers have uncovered images of what appears to be a PS5 MW3 bundle. This version of the bundle will also supposedly come with the PlayStation-exclusive ‘Lockpick’ operator skin. Each year CoD has done something special for PlayStation in the form of early access or operator skin. However, with Activision being acquired by Microsoft, MW3 will be the last CoD title to release with a PlayStation exclusive. Fans poked fun at Sony for featuring a ‘Xbox‘ game alongside one of their new consoles. Meanwhile others poked fun at the ugliness of the exclusive operator skin, with some saying that the skin looked ‘horrific‘. “PS console bundled with a first party Xbox title,” said one Twitter user. “What a time to be alive…” MW3 will be released on Xbox, Battlenet and Steam as well for those who are not playing on PS5. Retailers for the Modern Warfare 3 PS5 Slim bundle have yet to be revealed.

Modern Warfare 3 fans argue XDefiant missed its “ideal launch window” – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 fans argue XDefiant missed its “ideal launch window” Ubisoft & ActivisonWith no release date in sight for XDefiant, Modern Warfare 3 fans argue Ubisoft may have missed its window to get a leg up on Call of Duty. Ubisoft originally planned on releasing XDefiant in late summer. However, we are approaching October, and the arena shooter still has no release date. On September 11, Ubisoft Executive Produce Mark Rubin confirmed the game encountered setbacks. After detailing how the game submission process works, Rubin confirmed the game did not pass after being submitted in late July. The devs now hope to release XDefiant in early to mid-October. This news comes as a disappointment to FPS fans searching for a new experience. And it doesn’t help that October is a loaded month for FPS fans, as Modern Warfare 3 beta weekends run from October 6-16. Rubin downplayed any competition between XDefiant and COD, claiming: “This game will not ‘kill’ Call of Duty. Only Call of Duty can kill Call of Duty.” But now, after a delay, some Modern Warfare 3 fans believe that XDefiant was actually the one to knock itself out of the running. Did Ubisoft miss chance to go toe-to-toe with Modern Warfare 3? On September 29, ModernWarzone claimed: “XDefiant has missed its ideal launch window and chance to capitalize on a seemingly very down year for COD player satisfaction.” Anticipation for XDefiant was arguably at an all-time high after a successful beta in April. The arena shooter dominated Twitch viewership, surpassing Call of Duty, and FaZe Jev claimed the game’s worst map is better than any COD map in years. The XDefiant hype train appeared to stop in its tracks after Sledgehammer Games announced the return of MW2 2009 maps and fan-favorite legacy features in MW3. So this led the Call of Duty insider to ask: “Do you think the game can still be successful if it releases close to the same time as the new Call of Duty?” One user argued: “XDefiant should have released shortly after the beta dropped when the hype was high, and frustrations about MWII were at their most toxic.” Some fans even fear the worst for XDefiant, as a second commenter claimed: “It will have a fanbase, but I doubt it’s going to be as big as it could have been. If the numbers aren’t to Ubisoft’s liking though, we all know what will happen.” Before jumping to doom and gloom conclusions, we will get a better idea of the game’s longevity once it finally releases. We will provide an update when Ubisoft announces an XDefiant release date.

Modern Warfare 3 falls short of MW2 launch with huge player count drop – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 falls short of MW2 launch with huge player count drop ActivisionModern Warfare 3’s launch has struggled to match Modern Warfare 2’s player count on launch as the game’s rocky start continues. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is here, and its arrival has been met with a wave of criticism from players. Although the game is a direct sequel to 2022’s Modern Warfare 2 release, the game takes fans on a trip down memory lane with the return of all 16 maps from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2. However, there are some key changes for players who experienced the franchise’s second-ever Modern Warfare game back then, and not all of them have been well-received. The latest release’s increased time-to-kill has been slammed as “horrific” and inconsistent, players are divided on the “boring” new zombie mode, and the new Armory System has been labeled as “horrendous.” And it now seems that the game’s rocky start, including a highly criticized campaign mode, is being reflected in the major player count dip from Modern Warfare 2’s launch in 2022. As it stands, Modern Warfare 3 peaked at 190,273 concurrent players on Steam during the game’s launch weekend, reaching those highs on November 12, according to Steam Charts. Interestingly, MW3’s player count marks a significant decline from Modern Warfare 2’s debut in October 2022, which peaked at 262,875 players on Steam during the game’s launch weekend. While Modern Warfare 3’s launch numbers are still impressive for a newly released game, it’s a sign that players haven’t been willing to spend their hard-earned money on a game that many had initially confused as DLC. Of course, this comparison doesn’t take into account the player counts on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, which data has suggested represents close to 70% of the total Call of Duty player count in the past. Modern Warfare 3 ESRB rating reveals disturbing new “No Russian” details – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 ESRB rating reveals disturbing new “No Russian” details ActivisionThe official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 ESRB rating has provided some new details for the upcoming “No Russian” mission and how it will differ from MW2’s incarnation. The original 2009 Modern Warfare 2’s campaign featured one of the most controversial missions in gaming history where the player was tasked with killing waves of civilians in an airport and MW3 will have even more up its sleeve. Originally teased at the end of 2022’s Modern Warfare 2’s campaign, a post-credit scene shows a plane being hijacked by antagonist Vladimir Makarov’s men followed by a text message that reads “No Russian.” We can see this mission in action in the CoD MW3 trailer with the armed terrorists appearing to take over the plane before the teaser concludes, but the ESRB has provided additional details. Modern Warfare 3 “No Russian” mission details revealed by ESRB On the official ESRB website, MW3 is listed, to no one’s surprise, as being Mature-rated for blood and gore, intense violence, strong language, and use of drugs. The rating also shares some insight on just how brutal the gameplay can be, including some details from No Russian and another mission where civilians are shot and killed inside a stadium. “A handful of sequences depict more intense acts of violence: terrorists taking over an airplane; terrorists (dressed as police officers and paramedics) shooting/killing fleeing civilians inside a stadium concourse; airline passengers getting shot on a plane; prisoners shot inside a cell,” the ESRB states. It’s not clear yet why the stadium comes under attack or if the two missions are connected, but it seems like MW3 will be upping the ante from where the second game left off and the original No Russian. Amusingly, the ESRB rating also references previously-released multiplayer finishing moves including ones involving the devil’s lettuce. “The game includes a finishing move in which marijuana smoke from a bong can be forced into an opponent’s face,” the site says. Be sure to keep it locked to Dexerto for all the latest Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone news.

Modern Warfare 3 doesn’t have a Platinum trophy on PS5 – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 doesn’t have a Platinum trophy on PS5 ActivisionModern Warfare 3 will not have a Platinum trophy on PlayStation 5 due to it being considered DLC for MW2. All games come with some form of trophy system for PlayStation and Xbox. These trophies can be earned by completing challenges within the game or reaching certain milestones. Some challenges are more specific than others, which makes earning the trophy for it all the more fulfilling. On PlayStation there are four different types of trophies that can be earned. Again, these vary based on game and what is needed to be achieved in order to unlock the trophy. Bronze is the first level and usually has easy tasks to complete. The list goes on with Silver and Gold trophies, too. The fourth and final trophy is known as Platinum, and is typically one of the hardest to achieve when completing a game. Players can only receive a Platinum trophy when they’ve gotten all the other trophies for a game. Unlike Xbox, which has a Platinum trophy for completing MW3, this particular achievement is missing from the PlayStation edition. Modern Warfare 3 considered a DLC on PlayStation 5 A Twitter user by the name of ‘PowerPyx’ revealed that the highest trophy achievable in MW3 is a single Gold trophy, which is reached by hitting level 55 in game. Comparatively, the Xbox version of the game has three Gold trophies to unlock. To earn a Platinum trophy on this version of the game, the player must complete all the challenges. “CoD Modern Warfare 3 on PS5 doesn’t have a Platinum trophy, it’s a DLC list for Modern Warfare 2,” said PowerPyx. “Only the PS4 version has a standalone list and Platinum trophy. What the heck!” The PS4 version of MW3 shows the Platinum trophy being available, despite it being missing on the latest gen console. Fans of the game commented beneath the post, seemingly just as confused as to why MW3 would be listed as a DLC instead. “If this doesn’t have a Platinum I’m just not buying it lmao,” said one Twitter user. PlayStation and Call of Duty have yet to release a statement or update regarding the lack of a Platinum trophy for the game. However, MW3 does not release globally until November 10, which still leaves time for this issue to be potentially avoided. Based on comments beneath the original Twitter posts, Sledgehammer Games may be turning away potential players due to a lack of a Platinum trophy in the game.

Modern Warfare 3 devs troll cheaters for using Zombies Ray Gun in multiplayer – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 devs troll cheaters for using Zombies Ray Gun in multiplayer ActivisionSome pesky Modern Warfare 3 cheaters have found a way to take the insanely powerful Zombies Ray Gun into multiplayer lobbies. Cracking down, devs are now trolling anyone abusing the exploit. As with any new CoD release, there’s always bound to be a few issues, especially close to launch. While the RICOCHET anticheat system has helped prevent a good amount of cheating in recent years, it isn’t exactly flawless. When players do find ways to ‘break’ the game or ruin the experience for others, devs have a tendency to shut them down in the most amusing way possible. We’ve seen everything from zero-damage bullets to making players invisible, we’ve seen a wide range of hilarious tricks. Now, we can add another to the list on the Modern Warfare 3 side. In light of a game-breaking exploit, one allowing cheaters to use the Ray Gun in multiplayer matches, devs are now flipping the script. This particular exploit came into focus shortly after MW3’s Season 1 update. Players figured out a way to bring the beloved Zombies Ray Gun over to the multiplayer side of the game. Naturally, given its extreme power, it didn’t exactly give teams a fair fight. Looking to stamp down on anyone abusing this issue, devs have now initiated a new troll. “Players illicitly accessing the Ray Gun in multiplayer will now inflict self-damage upon use,” they shared on December 12. As it says on the box, anyone bringing a Ray Gun to the fight will now be mortally wounding themselves instead. Anytime they try to fire on unsuspecting foes, that significant damage will be returning straight up the barrel and into their Operator. Given the amusing ‘fix’ for the issue, the community was delighted in response to the news. “You love to see it,” and “that’s hilarious” littering the replies on Twitter. Though of course, not everyone is sold on what’s being labeled a “band aid fix.” For others, while it’s amusing at first, they’d rather just see a flatout ban to anyone ruining the fun online.

Modern Warfare 3 devs temporarily remove Hardpoint maps amid spawn issues – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 devs temporarily remove Hardpoint maps amid spawn issues ActivisionModern Warfare 3 temporarily removed Quarry, Rundown, and Scrapyard from Hardpoint to fix “unfavorable” spawns. After playing the Modern Warfare 3 beta, former and current COD pros slammed the game’s spawns as the “worst ever” in series history. Spawn issues hit Domination especially hard as community members exposed an issue, that spawned players on an enemy flag or randomly in the middle or side of the map. Spawn-related errors also extended to other objective-based game modes, as players spawned in advantageous places, removing any skill. As a result, Sledgehammer Games asked fans for video clips showing bad spawns. The devs then used that evidence as part of the Day 1 update and added spawn anchors to maps to positively influence the flow of matches. Unfortunately, the changes didn’t appear to do enough, as more spawn issues forced urgent action again. Quarry, Rundown, and Scrapyard temporarily removed from Modern Warfare 3 On November 9, Call of Duty announced: “Quarry, Rundown, and Scrapyard have been temporarily removed from Hardpoint playlists while we investigate an issue causing unfavorable spawns.” Modern Warfare 3 content creator Nixstah posted a clip, showing the entire enemy team and even some of his own teammates spawn right in front of him. The spawn issues resulted in an absolutely chaotic sequence, and that’s exactly what the devs plan on investigating. Call of Duty did not provide a specific timeline for when fans can expect a fix. But players can track the investigation process on MW3’s official Trello board. It’s also unclear what other spawn problems still need ironing out. All will become clearer as everyone gets more comfortable during the first few days of the game. But we will provide an update when new information surfaces. For more, make sure to check out the rest of our Modern Warfare 3 coverage.

Modern Warfare 3 devs respond to major issue making MORS sniper way worse – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 devs respond to major issue making MORS sniper way worse ActivisionMany Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone players were excited to start running the MORS when it dropped in Season 3, a throwback weapon pulled from 2014’s Advanced Warfare. But, a number of them noticed a problem that made the gun much worse than it should be. After a few days of running the weapon, leveling it up, and trying different builds, players started to notice that something wasn’t quite right with the MORS or, more specifically, the scopes for the gun. As it turned out, there actually was a visual misalignment on the MORS optics, meaning that shots were missing even when they looked pixel-perfect. It didn’t take long for some Warzone experts to notice issues with the gun and, finally, developers Sledgehammer Games took note, and responded to the issue. “Our team is aware of an issue causing a slight optic misalignment with the MORS Sniper Rifle which may cause shots that appear on-target to miss,” they explained. “We’ve scheduled a fix for this issue to be released in a future game update.” While this appears to be being treated as a priority issue by Sledgehammer, there have been numerous calls for a nerf to the Renetti conversion kit, which has made the pistol an absolute demon in Warzone, challenging even the meta HRM-9. At the time of writing, there is no confirmed nerf coming to the Renetti conversion kit, or a date for when the MORS will be fixed.

Modern Warfare 3 devs promise major changes to sliding, visibility, more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 devs promise major changes to sliding, visibility, more ActivisionSledgehammer Games listened to community feedback and announced a list of major changes coming to Modern Warfare 3’s second beta weekend. Modern Warfare 3 players walked away from the beta’s first beta weekend with mostly positive feedback. Specifically, fans sang praises for a slower time-to-kill speed, classic mini-map, map voting, and improved movement speed. However, the devs didn’t escape unscathed from criticism. Community members slammed “inconsistent” teammate visibility, “random” spawns, and a “horrible” delay after sliding. Sledgehammer Games heard the complaints loud and clear and responded accordingly. Sliding, visibility, and spawn changes coming to Modern Warfare 3 The PlayStation-exclusive portion of the Modern Warfare 3 beta concluded on October 10. Sledgehammer Games thanked players for participating and also announced changes scheduled for the next beta period. “Our team is hard at work on further improvements for Weekend Two and beyond. Later this week, you can expect an update on some of the top concerns we’ve observed, including, but not limited to… Operator Visibility, Slide Timing, Spawn Selection.” The devs clarified that Weekend 2 will only see minor changes to spawns, with more coming at launch. Sledgehammer Games wouldn’t go into detail on the specific nature of changes, but players made it crystal clear what specifically they want changed. In the case of teammate visibility, players had difficulties differentiating between friend and foe. ModernWarzone urged the devs to bring back an outline around the enemies, which made it easier to see in a previous build. As for spawns, several current and former COD pros complained that the spawns felt too random and lacked consistency. Finally, Modern Warfare 3 brings back slide canceling, but not how fans remember. The animation no longer allows operators to reset their tactical sprint, causing a delay after sliding. Players demanded a removal of the delay, as it felt clunky and unnatural. It remains to be seen what exactly Sledgehammer Games intends to change. But we will provide an update when the second Modern Warfare 3 beta weekend kicks off on October 12.

Modern Warfare 3 devs make bold claim about improved movement speed – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 devs make bold claim about improved movement speed ActivisionModern Warfare 3 revealed footage and images of all 16 MW2 (2009) map remakes, but improved mantling speed stole the show. Sledgehammer Games is at the helm for Modern Warfare 3 and has fans excited after addressing long-awaited community requests. First, the classic mini-map returns, meaning players will have their location revealed when firing an unsuppressed weapon. Next, the devs heard complaints and slowed down multiplayer TTK speed by increasing base health to 150. MW3 re-empowers players by allowing them to vote on which map they play in multiplayer. Finally, Sledgehammer promised wide-sweeping movement changes, including the return of slide and reload canceling and faster movement speed. Community members remained skeptical about said movement changes until they tried Modern Warfare 3. Yet they certainly were impressed after seeing a first glimpse at improved mantling, and the devs promised it only gets better. Modern Warfare 3 players impressed by fast mantle speed Sledgehammer Games revealed footage of MW2 (2009) maps in Modern Warfare 3. While sharing a first look at the Highrise remake, the devs showed an operator sprinting around the map and mantling to previously unreachable locations. Faster sprinting and mantling speeds jumped off the screen, and one fan expressed their appreciation: “Thank you for making the movement and mantling a lot faster.” Sledgehammer Games responded to the thankful fan: “Movement feels even better than it looks.” Fellow Modern Warfare 3 community members felt just as excited after watching the new and improved movement in action. One fan responded: “Fast mantle. That’s promising. Can’t wait to see what the aim down sight and sprint to fire looks like. A second user added: “This s*it looks so good… the movement looks so smooth.” However, the clip did raise skepticism over players being able to jump into new locations. As a third commenter said: “As an OG MW2 player, mantling on new things, I may not know how I feel about it right now, but I’m willing to adapt.” We will get our first look at the new and improved Modern Warfare 3 movement in action at Call of Duty Next.

Modern Warfare 3 devs indirectly confirm return of fan-favorite AR – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 devs indirectly confirm return of fan-favorite AR ActivisionSledgehammer Games knew exactly what it was doing by including an image of the ACR AR in a Modern Warfare 3 social media post. A few weapons in Call of Duty history will forever be enshrined as all-time great weapons. Whether it be the COD 4 M164A, Black Ops 1 Famas, or World at War MP40, there is always that one gun that defines a game’s meta for better or worse. For example, players have nightmares thinking about Akimbo Model 1887’s terrorizing MW2 (2009) lobbies. But on the opposite side of the spectrum, fans universally love the ACR. On Infinity Ward’s website, the ACR was voted the favorite assault rifle in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. So when Sledgehammer Games announced it was bringing back all 16 original MW2 maps for Modern Warfare 3, it only made sense for the ACR to make a long-awaited return, as well. ACR confirmed for Modern Warfare 3 Sledgehammer Games tweeted a thread breaking down the new tac-stance movement mechanic coming to Modern Warfare 3. But it doesn’t take a detective to notice the ACR is the weapon used in the social media post. Community members immediately noticed and freaked out in the comment section. One player responded: “This is what we needed, and a second user added: “Ok, this game is a must.” However, some community members still have some reservations. Warzone Loadout questioned if they would actually call it an ACR, and other community members begged for it to be a meta weapon. This would be the first time since Call of Duty Infinity Warfare (2016) a series entry included an ACR. Until Sledgehammer Games officially confirms the AR’s name, it’s important not to get too excited. But for fans that want to look at Modern Warfare 3’s possible weapon roster, check out the full list of leaked weapons.

Modern Warfare 3 devs confirm Ricochet anti-cheat update as cheaters swarm beta – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 devs confirm Ricochet anti-cheat update as cheaters swarm beta ActivisionCall of Duty has confirmed upgrades to its Richochet anti-cheat for the Modern Warfare 3 beta as waves of cheaters already infiltrated the game. On October 12, Activision announced that a new suite of detections and protections will be set to go live once Modern Warfare 3 arrives, but the news comes as a new wave of cheaters is expected for the beta. Watchdog group anti-cheat police department had previously warned that a cheat provider was giving away its software for free during the beta period as PC early access begins. However, Activision has responded and will be upping its efforts to keep the community safe, even addressing cheating issues that plagued the first beta despite PlayStation exclusivity. MW3 promises to permaban for cheaters during beta In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, CoD claimed that only a “small number of accounts” were caught cheating during weekend one. That said, for the second weekend, the team promised to be ready and issued a warning to anyone caught abusing nefarious software such as aimbots or wall hacks. “For Weekend Two, the team will be actively monitoring the BETA and will enforce permanent bans against any account detected to be cheating, across all platforms,” they said. As the war against hackers continues, it will be interesting to see how many bans are issued during the beta and what improvements the devs have made to Richochet in time for the launch of MW3 on November 10. For more on the Modern Warfare 3 beta, check out our guide for how you can play as well as all our latest coverage on the next installment in the CoD franchise.

Modern Warfare 3 devs confirm return of fan-favorite map voting feature – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 devs confirm return of fan-favorite map voting feature ActivisionPlayers can finally vote for the maps they play on again in Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer. Modern Warfare 3 is set to feature remastered versions of every single Modern Warfare 2 (2009) launch map. Surprisingly, only six of MW2’s 16 iconic maps have received a remastered version over the years. Two of the most popular, Highrise and Favela, both received remakes. However, it’s still been around 10 years since either beloved environment was featured in a COD title. And Skidrow and Estate never got remade despite being popular. MW3 finally lets long-time series veterans relive some of their favorite memories from COD. But for newer players experiencing these maps for the first time, they aren’t all winners. And that’s where map voting comes into play. Modern Warfare 3 re-introduces map voting As part of the MW3 reveal event, CharlieIntel confirmed that map voting is making a long-awaited return. Modern Warfare 2019 controversially removed map voting. The series staple allowed players to vote for their choice of two maps or a random map. Without the ability to vote, it presented problems when pre-match lobbies would empty out if players didn’t get a map they like. MW2 (2022) especially suffered from this problem when maps such as Santa Sena Border Crossing or Taraq popped up. Instead of 6v6 lobbies, there were more than a few occasions of it being a 2v2 or 3v3 fight. That isn’t to say that MW3 won’t have its fair share of map skipping. Derail, Underpass, Rundown, and Wasteland all have their fair share of detractors for one reason or another. But at least in MW3, players can vote for other maps instead of leaving pre-match lobbies entirely. However, map voting does raise issues of its own. At the end of the day, liking maps is subjective. So even if the majority of community members hate an environment, there will always be at least one fan who loves it. It will be annoying for those players to have their favorite map constantly passed up. Modern Warfare 3 is set to release on November 10.

Modern Warfare 3 devs confirm DMZ support, but not as some fans hoped – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 devs confirm DMZ support, but not as some fans hoped ActivisionThe Modern Warfare 3 devs reassured fans that DMZ will continue to recieve support but won’t likely be part of the upcoming Warzone experience. Inspired by Escape from Tarkov and other extraction shooters, Infinity Ward introduced DMZ in MW2 and Warzone 2. The PvP and PvE Warzone game mode established a relatively small but loyal fan base. DMZ received a healthy dose of content over the first few seasons, but that well dried up toward the end of Modern Warfare 2’s life cycle. Coupled with a long list of bugs and a lack of substantial updates, fans feared that DMZ would become a “forgotten” game mode. Well-versed streamer Westie even called DMZ “chalked” after the Season 4 Reloaded update. A massive downturn in popularity had community members fearing the worst. Lead MW3 studio Sledgehammer Games made no mention of DMZ during the first initial wave of news, leading to fans assuming the game mode would be scrapped. However, the devs stepped in and reassured a worried player base. DMZ will continue to receive support in Modern Warfare 3 within MW2 On October 2, CharlieIntel reported: “Activision says DMZ Beta will continue to be supported within Modern Warfare 2 Warzone experiences — playable on the maps it already is available, but it looks like it won’t be part of MW3 Warzone.” The news will come as a bittersweet pill to swallow for fans. While DMZ will still receive updates, those infiltrations are limited to Al Mazrah, Ashika Island, and Vondel, meaning no expansion on the new Warzone map. And to add insult to injury, Sledgehammer Games has no plans of showing any new DMZ information during the COD Next MW3 event on October 5. With no concrete future in place, fans of Warzone’s extraction shooter will most likely still have reservations. But at least they can rest easy knowing their beloved game mode isn’t going anywhere for the foreseeable future.

Modern Warfare 3 devs all but confirm slide cancel return with new content creator merch pack – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 devs all but confirm slide cancel return with new content creator merch pack ActivisionSlide canceling is seemingly back on the menu for Modern Warfare 3 as Activision has cheekily teased a return of the movement mechanic for the new release in a bizarre merch pack sent out to content creators. Although nothing has yet been officially unveiled in the leadup to this year’s Modern Warfare 3 release, that hasn’t stopped early intel from piling up. Be it through a number of major artwork leaks or various datamines from Warzone 2, we already know a fair bit about the new CoD title. Now, adding to the pile is Activision itself. Ahead of a proper reveal event later this month, devs are now starting to tease what’s to come and the latest hint is something rather unique. A handful of North American content creators were just sent a new merch pack. Unlike recent hauls that provided actual goodies for streamers to wear on-camera or use in their setup, this one featured some odd items that all but spell out the return of a key gameplay mechanic. Various streamers unboxed the new package while live on August 6. First they showed a pair of nondescript flip-flops, then a can, followed by a few loose pieces of tech that when assembled, form a dated cell phone. When taken literally, slides, cans, and cells can only point to one thing in CoD terms: Slide canceling. Accompanying the package was a handwritten, bloodstained note from a mysterious imprisoned sender. It reads: “I was barely able to get this out of the prison. No time to explain, use these items to prepare for what’s to come.” When switched on, a few brief messages were then sent to the phones as well. One, in particular, all but locked in the return of slide canceling in this year’s CoD release, saying “You’ll be expected to move more quickly in Al Mazrah,” according to Swagg’s broadcast. Naturally, these teasers all point towards the slide-canceling movement mechanic making a return in Modern Warfare 3, and seemingly Warzone 2 as well once integrated later this year. A core feature of both competitive multiplayer and competitive Warzone in recent years, slide cancels do exactly what they say, canceling part of your slide animation to speed up movement on any given map. The movement trick was removed in Modern Warfare 2 and thus, Warzone 2 as well, leading to a wave of backlash from both multiplayer and battle royale gamers alike. But now, it appears devs have heard the feedback loud and clear, with plans to reintroduce slide canceling in MW3.

Modern Warfare 3 devs address multiple bugs plaguing campaign early access – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 devs address multiple bugs plaguing campaign early access ActivisionThe Modern Warfare 3 devs issued a statement after multiple bugs reared their ugly head during the first day of campaign early access. Sledgehammer Games opened its doors on November 2 for fans who pre-ordered Modern Warfare 3 to play through all 14 campaign levels one week before the official release. The early access window provides a perfect opportunity for community members to enjoy the single-player experience before being distracted by multiplayer and Warzone. The devs also provided an extra bit of incentive by giving rewards to anyone who completes the campaign. So when the day finally rolled around, excited players logged in, anticipating a memorable story. But instead, game-breaking bugs crashed the party, forcing the devs to spring into action quickly. Modern Warfare 3 devs launch campaign bug investigation First, a bug prevented campaign access because of a “disk required” error. A fix was quickly pushed out, but it ultimately resulted in more issues, as news spread of progression levels resetting to 1 and losing access to the MW3 campaign. Both issues forced the MW3 devs to announce, “We are investigating a service outage impacting multiple titles. During this time, Campaign Early Access, account ownership checks, and progression systems may be temporarily unavailable.” After a rocky launch day, the devs eventually reached a resolution and confirmed, “Services impacted by this outage are now recovering. Players should not observe a loss in Campaign completion progress. Challenges and other online progression systems are once again tracking, although it may take some time for the accurate Player Rank to appear.” It remains unclear when player ranks will return to normal. But for those who found themselves on the wrong end of the mishap, you can rest assured that help is on the way. Hopefully, Modern Warfare 3 will see a smoother launch when the multiplayer servers go live on November 10.

Modern Warfare 3 devs address COD HQ concerns – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 devs address COD HQ concerns ActivisionAfter facing backlash for Modern Warfare 3’s COD HQ, devs addressed concerns and explained the feature’s purpose. COD HQ serves as a central hub. Players can access Modern Warfare 2, Warzone, or Modern Warfare 3 all from one launcher. Activision argued that the feature makes navigating “easier and straightforward.” Yet, some community members contend that finding where they are going is more confusing than ever. Frustrations mounted when players learned that large game file sizes for Modern Warfare 3 were due to the launcher taking up space. Users have the choice to uninstall specific content they no longer play, but that didn’t stop HQ from being targeted as the root of all problems. Explanations have fallen on deaf ears so far, but Activision took another shot at appeasing fans. MW3 devs defend COD HQ On November 8, Activision released a blog going over Modern Warfare 3’s COD HQ, and CharlieIntel brokedown the key takeaways. Most notably, the Call of Duty Insider pointed out that there will be four tabs to choose from: What’s Hot, MWIII, Warzone, and MWIII. The What’s Hot tab features the top playlists for MW3, while the other choices are rather self-explanatory. Activision also added: “We are continuing to work on fine-tuning Call of Duty HQ to optimize the player experience as we launch Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III later this week.” CharlieIntel isn’t quite ready to give out any praise, explaining: “If you intend to continue playing MWII after today (I don’t know why), you have to open Call of Duty HQ, enter the main HQ, scroll down to MWII, select Multiplayer, go through another server connecting loading screen, and then you’re in!” It’s unclear what exactly the devs have up their sleeves, but fans should at least feel confident knowing their complaints are being heard.

Modern Warfare 3 devs address bugged Daily Challenges not tracking progress – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 devs address bugged Daily Challenges not tracking progress ActivisionModern Warfare 3 devs have addressed bugged Daily Challenges not tracking progress, promising to investigate the issue. We are a week into Modern Warfare 3’s full release and it hasn’t been the smoothest of rollouts for Sledgehammer. Despite the plethora of new weapons and even the return of the MW2 2009 map pool, many players have still criticized the various new system additions. The newly introduced Armory hasn’t been without its issues as players have been complaining about the new system, with some asking the devs to remove the feature. And this feature also hasn’t been without its bugs early on. One of the problems players have with the new system is reports of Daily Challenges incorrectly tracking progress. However, the devs have fortunately addressed the issue. In a tweet by the Call of Duty Updates account, the MW3 dev team announced they were looking into the issue. “An issue is under investigation in which Daily Challenges are not tracking progression for some players,” the tweet read. The Daily Challenges bug causes issues for players as since it partially replaces the old unlock system, it stops players from unlocking content for MW3 multiplayer. Either that or it slows your progress. The tweet’s comments were filled with players pleading for the removal of the Armory Unlock system, which has been a rallying cry for many members of the community. Additionally, players were giving anecdotes of the progression not working, with one player writing, “I had two days of not being able to unlock anything in the armory,” asking if they would be compensated for the progress they missed. The devs did not give a specific date for when the issue will be resolved, however, we will update you here when they do.

Modern Warfare 3 demon reveals quick scoping is finally back – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 demon reveals quick scoping is finally back ActivisionSniping took a backseat to other weapons in MW2, but the class is back and better than ever in Modern Warfare 3. Modern Warfare 3 makes players feel like they are feeling a classic COD, and it’s not just because of the MW2 (2009) maps returning. Sledgehammer Games also brought back legacy features like the classic mini-map, slower time-to-kill speeds, and map voting. Guns also feel similar to how we once remembered. MW2 slowed down weapon strafe, ADS, and sprint to fire speeds, but the latest COD cranks that dial-up. As a result, the devs adjusted every MW2 weapon to match the new damage profiles. So, whether you are using an old or new sniper rifle in MW3, the class makes a strong comeback into form. And players are quickly beginning to realize how strong the class is again. Sniping is back in Modern Warfare 3 Just hours into Modern Warfare 3 being out, COD content creator FaZe Scope dropped an insane quick scoping montage. Reminiscent of everyone going up against their friends in one one-on-one sniper battles on Rust in MW2 (2009), it appears that quick scoping is finally viable again. With the new KATT-AMR sniper rifle in hand, Scope took on entire lobbies by himself, quickly scoping heads like it was nothing. Best of all, several MW2 2009 maps play right into the hands of sniper rifles excelling. Whether it be the hard-to-reach spots in Highrise, or across the map on Afghan, MW3 is truly a sniper’s paradise. Oddly enough, out of the three new sniper rifles, the KATT-AMR is the only bolt-action option, as the other two are semi-automatic. So, the best and only MW3 option for quick scoping will come from the KATT. Unfortunately, Scope did not reveal his sniper loadout of choice. But lucky for you, we already built the best KATT-AMR MW3 multiplayer loadout.

Modern Warfare 3 Dec 14 update patch notes: Ghost perk buffs, weapon nerfs, more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 Dec 14 update patch notes: Ghost perk buffs, weapon nerfs, more Activision BlizzardModern Warfare 3 is getting some major changes in the most recent patch notes as multiple guns have been nerfed. The December 14 update to Modern Warfare 3 is bringing a host of changes to the game. The most important of which are changes to the Ghost perk, multiple weapon nerfs, and some bug fixes across the board. The December 6 and 7 patches implemented some much-needed changes to the Riot Shield and more multiplayer content. This update seemed to be more about quality-of-life improvements to make the game feel better for players across the board. Changes to Ghost The developer said changes came to the popular multiplayer perk due to player feedback. A grace period has been added to the movement requirement so momentary pauses will no longer see the player’s position revealed. Modern Warfare 3 Day 1 patch notes: Huge weapon changes, spawn fixes, more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 Day 1 patch notes: Huge weapon changes, spawn fixes, more ActivisionSledgehammer Games dropped a massive Modern Warfare 3 launch day update, addressing spawns, slide canceling, weapon balancing, and more. Modern Warfare 3 already looks very different from what we remember during the first beta weekend. After a first run-through, community members slammed “inconsistent” enemy visibility, “random” spawns, and a “horrible” delay after sliding. In response, the devs added enemy nameplates, decreased the sprint to slide delay, and asked players for clips so they could fix spawns. Community members walked away from the beta with an overall positive impression of the transparency provided. MW3’s launch day update goes one step further to resolve pre-release concerns. The patch notes also provide a first glimpse at the type of communication fans can expect to see over the course of this title. MW3 Visibility and spawn improvements The launch day update added a stroke to player nameplates to further improve visibility. Then, to improve Modern Warfare 3’s spawns, the devs introduced spawn anchors, which will positively impact the flow of matches. On the same note, Modern Warfare 3 community members called Domination “unplayable” in the beta, as players spawned on the enemy flag or randomly in the middle of the side of the map. The update makes spawn selection less likely to put players close to opposing flags. During the beta, Sledgehammer Games decreased the delay after sliding down to 200ms. Segments of the player base argued it still wasn’t enough, so the devs offered a compromise. The sprint input while sliding will now cancel the slide animation, and a new setting allows players to tap to slide by disabling the dive. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 co-op: Can you play the campaign with a friend? – Dexerto
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 co-op: Can you play the campaign with a friend? ActivisionWith the release of Modern Warfare 3, the newest chapter in the Call of Duty saga, players are eager to learn about a potential co-op mode to team up with friends to tackle the game’s main storyline. We have all the campaign details for you. The game, fresh off the press, introduces a riveting campaign storyline peppered with familiar faces, as well as a variety of multiplayer modes for players to explore. If you’re keen to experience the latest Call of Duty story alongside friends, however, you may want to know if Modern Warfare 3’s campaign includes a co-op feature. With that in mind, here’s everything you need to know about co-op in Modern Warfare 3’s campaign. Does the Modern Warfare 3 campaign offer co-op? No, the Modern Warfare 3 campaign does not offer a co-op mode. This has been true to the previous Modern Warfare campaigns as well. The Modern Warfare 3 campaign will be an all-out single-player experience where you will continue the story right where you left it in Modern Warfare 2. In this story, you will come across characters like Captain Price, Ghost, Soap, Makarov, Gaz, and Alejandro. However, the Modern Warfare 3 campaign is by no means an RPG. The campaign is mission-oriented where you get to play any single character depending on what the game makes you do. Hence, there is very little scope for a co-op campaign in the first place. This does not mean you have zero chance for a co-op mode in Call of Duty. This is because Modern Warfare 2 has Spec Ops and raids which are co-op experiences. As of now, it is unclear whether Modern Warfare 3 will have those modes or not. However, if you are talking about the campaign, you will have to play it solo right from the beginning. This concludes all that we know about co-op in the Modern Warfare 3 campaign. If you found it informative, do not forget to check out some of our other guides at Dexerto. Modern Warfare 3 Carry Forward explained: Weapons, operators, bundles – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 Carry Forward explained: Weapons, operators, bundles ActivisionActivision confirmed MW2 weapon progression, operator skins, and weapon blueprints carry over to Modern Warfare 3. Here is everything you need to know about the Carry Forward system. Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 controversially didn’t carry over purchased cosmetics from WZ1. Players can still use their items in multiplayer, but free-to-play-only users lost access to over two years of microtransactions. Some community members refrained from purchasing anything in MW2, fearing they might lose everything again. Activision eased worries by confirming that weapons, Operators, & bundles will carry over to the next series entry. Instead of celebrating the news, community members criticized Activision for waiting over a year to make the announcement. Hopefully, fans embrace the announcement once they learn everything included. What is Modern Warfare 3 Carry Forward? In the Carry Forward blog, Activision confirmed MW3 will feature its own weapons and content set, but all MW2 operators, weapons, and more will be available to use in the next game. This means players will keep their leveled-up weapons and attachments, Bundles, Operator Skins, Battle Pass items, and weapon blueprints. Weapon levels are fully synced up, meaning if you go back to MW2 to play, the weapon will have its level maintained between both games and maintained in Warzone. However, there are a few exceptions. If MW3 does not have a vehicle or item that players have a skin for, those won’t carry over. Wartracks (music) will not carry over and MW2 operators unlocked via challenges in the campaign or other modes can only be accessed in MW2. For the camo grinders, you can use an MW2 weapon in MW3 and get mastery. However, MW3 camos can only be equipped on MW3 weapons and vice versa. It’s important to note that Double XP tokens will carry over as well. Battle Pass weapons that you did not unlock in MW2 will have direct path challenges in MW3 to unlock. However, other Battle Pass content is only available if you got them when the BP was active. For more, make sure to check out the rest of our MW3 coverage.

Modern Warfare 3 breaks COD mold with dynamic open-ended Campaign missions – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 breaks COD mold with dynamic open-ended Campaign missions ActivisionModern Warfare 3 is the next game in the Call of Duty franchise, with bundles of new content coming — but Campaign players have been given a reason to get seriously excited. Over the years, COD players who love the Campaign above anything else have had a tumultuous time. They’ve not loved every entry into the series, and 2018’s Black Ops 4 didn’t even feature a Campaign at all, with a clear focus on the other modes in the game. This year, though, Sledgehammer Games have put some serious work into the Campaign to give players something different, and it doesn’t sound as though it’ll disappoint. For the first time in Call of Duty history, the annual release will see a direct sequel to the previous year’s title, meaning that players waiting for answers or more content from Modern Warfare 2 will get exactly what they’re looking for. That’s not all, though, as the game looks set to feature more open-world style missions, with players given the authority to play certain facets of the story exactly as they wish. “Open” Modern Warfare 3 campaign? According to a graphic published on Thursday, August 17, following the MW3 reveal, the Campaign will feature Open Combat Missions: Player directed missions that give the player the choice and to direct the task at hand. Whether you want to play a certain situation stealthily or go in all guns blazing, there are a number of Campaign missions that will put the decision in your hands. This won’t be true for all missions, with only a selection of them providing these options, but it gives players far more flexibility in how their story plays out, as well as more replayability to play out every possible scenario in the game. Modern Warfare 3 is due to launch on all platforms on November 10.

Modern Warfare 3 called out for “downgraded” graphics and sound design – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 called out for “downgraded” graphics and sound design ActivisionModern Warfare 3 players are completely baffled, with many feeling like the game is “evolving backward” when it comes to graphics and sound. Modern Warfare 3’s early-access beta finally arrived on October 6, giving Call of Duty players a glimpse of what to expect when the game officially releases in November. From many being divided over “unrealistic” movement mechanics to players calling for the devs to revert the changes made to slide canceling, it’s fair to say fans are already voicing frustrations. MW3 players hit out claiming the game is “evolving backward” Similarly, in an October 7 Reddit thread, player ‘Dalvinyoung’ pointed out how it feels as if the popular first-person shooter is “evolving backward” when it comes to various aspects of the game. “I know graphics, gun feel, and sounds aren’t the most important things but damn why are we evolving backwards? “Like I said these things aren’t the most important but the downgrade in graphics and the way the guns feel is very noticeable, why is this happening with an AAA studio?” they said. The player continued, claiming that 2019’s Modern Warfare even looks like a generation ahead when compared to MW3’s beta. “MW2019 came out 4 years ago and it looks like it’s almost a whole console generation ahead. I’m trying not to let these things bother me when I’m playing but I would be lying if I said it wasn’t and I see a ton of other people complaining about this too.” they added. Others in the replies only seemed to agree with the post, with one hitting out explaining the devs have spent their effort on microtransactions instead. “Good graphics and audio take a lot of time and effort, time and effort that could be better spent on microtransactions,” a commenter responded. While some claimed graphics and sounds aren’t “the most important things,” others hit back explaining: “MW 19 tried to do as best as they could with this and it seems like it’s gone downhill. Especially in MW3. So many issues I’ve seen with design or attention to detail on weapons it’s wild.” Modern Warfare 3 is set for launch on all platforms on Friday, November 10, 2023 — so there’s still plenty of time for the devs to polish things up before the official release. Modern Warfare 3 brings back slide cancelling, but not as fans remember – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 brings back slide cancelling, but not as fans remember ActivisionSlide canceling is finally back in Call of Duty, but Modern Warfare 3’s implementation of the mechanic won’t be the same as players from MW 2019 remember. Modern Warfare 2019 introduced slide canceling, which is a movement mechanic that makes it easier for players to move around the map quickly and finesse enemies in gunfights. Modern Warfare 2 controversially removed slide canceling, and community members flamed the decision. In a poll that was held in July, Over 45,000 people voted, and 64% of voters claimed they were unhappy over the decision to remove slide canceling. In response, Sledgehammer Games listened to community feedback and announced a major overhaul of the movement system. To improve responsiveness in MW3, players can fire during a slide and cancel the animation. Despite that, slide canceling won’t look exactly the same. Slide canceling changed in Modern Warfare 3 Originally, slide canceling allowed players to retain their maximum movement speed after sliding. Completing it successfully made it possible to continue sprinting after performing a slide. However, Raven Software announced that in MW3: “You can cancel slide animations.” However, the devs specifically stated that slide canceling does not reset a tactical sprint. Without having a hands-on experience with the gameplay, it’s impossible to tell for sure. But not being able to reset a tactical sprint after slide canceling will surely slow the movement mechanic down. Additionally, Tactical Pads Increase slide distance & allow for full ADS while sliding. The perk also Increases stance transition speeds & crouched movement speed. Players can equip this perk to make up for the decreased movement speed from tactical sprinting, not resetting. Before community members panic too much, all will become clearer when players can get their hands on the game during its Open Beta. If you want access to that Beta, check out our Modern Warfare 3 pre-order guide.

Modern Warfare 3 beta patch adds SnD, camera movement change & more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 beta patch adds SnD, camera movement change & more ActivisionSledgehammer Games dropped a minor update that adds SnD to the Modern Warfare 3 beta and creates more freedom for players while sliding. Slide canceling is currently at the heart of Modern Warfare 3 beta discussions. Sledgehammer Games brought the fan-favorite movement mechanic back, but removed the ability to reset a tactical sprint after performing the cancel. As a result, there is a delay in between sliding and sprinting again. Community members called for the “horrible” delay to be removed entirely. Instead, the MW3 devs returned with a compromise and decreased the sliding delay down to 200ms. The effort to increase mobility only frustrated the player base more. Community members once again flooded the comment section to remove the delay completely. As players wait with bated breath to see what the devs ultimately decide to do for the game’s final build, Sledgehammer Games unveiled a slide change that received overwhelming applause for a nice change of pace. Modern Warfare 3 camera movement change explained On October 13, the MW3 devs added SnD, a new Ground War map, made changes to Cutthroat, and increased camera movement while sliding. Sledgehammer Games explained: “Players may be familiar with today’s change to camera movement. With this update, players will see greater freedom of movement while sliding on sloped surfaces. No more ‘camera lock.’” This means that when players are sliding down a hill or any sloped surface, they will be able to move the camera as they please instead of it being locked. The increased freedom should make it easier to get ready to fire at an enemy after sliding. Community members praised the devs for their quick response time. ModernWarzone responded: “Massive W, this was frustrating the hell out of me last night.” Fellow Warzone content creator IceManIsaac added: “We’re in for a good year, boys! These changes are coming through FAST!” Sledgehammer Games also made sure to shout out Raven Software for its efforts in helping roll out quality-of-life updates. Modern Warfare 3 beta already plagued by cheaters despite PlayStation exclusivity – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 beta already plagued by cheaters despite PlayStation exclusivity ActivisionJust a few hours in, the Modern Warfare 3 PS4 open beta has been flooded with cheaters. Modern Warfare 3 is in the middle of an open beta exclusive to PlayStation players. The beta covers plenty of ground, showing fans what comes next in the storied Call of Duty franchise. Plenty of new features, such as the aggravating Battle Rage, are in the beta. Conversely, plenty of returning features and maps are coming back, making MW3 look promising. However, one feature that hasn’t been fun is cheaters. The latest wave of players has gotten access to the beta and has ruined the experience for many. Cheaters plaguing the Modern Warfare 3 open beta The first weekend of the MW3 beta began October 6 for players who preordered Modern Warfare 3, and opened up for players who didn’t preorder on October 8. This initial beta is only available for PlayStation players, which makes it all the more puzzling that hackers are already a problem. Hours after the floodgates opened for non-preorder players, clips surfaced of cheaters ruining the experience for others. PS4 players with jailbroken consoles are the prime suspects. Players were quick to comment on this blatant cheating with the top comments reflecting on the bad rep PC players get, regarding cheating. “And cod players blamed PC crossplay for cheats. PS was the issue all along” responded one Twitter user. Another player commented in defense of PlayStation players “Nah for Warzone and ranked play it’s only the pc players this is the first time I’ve seen ps4 actually doing something.” Regardless of which platform cheats the most, cheating in Call of Duty has been an issue for quite some time. In an attempt to negate it, Activision launched its own anti-cheat, Ricochet, last year. However, it seems like the system isn’t perfect as seen above. Hackers have been a pesky problem for CoD’s developers over the past few years, and it seems as if these deviants aren’t letting up any time soon. Even if they have to modify a console to do it.

Alongside Controller Settings, there are three graphics setting tabs that you can adjust in Modern Warfare 3: Display, Quality, and View. All of these have their own toggles and sliders, making it overwhelming to work out what works best. Modern Warfare 3 becomes worst reviewed Call of Duty of all time – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 becomes worst reviewed Call of Duty of all time ActivisionThe reviews are in, and it’s not looking good for Modern Warfare 3, as it has officially hit the bottom of the pile for Call of Duty scores at launch. By and large, MW3 has received a lot of praise from the wider community. It has brought back a number of features that players love, as well as remastering the fan-favorite Modern Warfare 2 (2009) maps. This is in stark contrast to last year’s entry — also called Modern Warfare 2 — which bombed in the court of public opinion, despite becoming the best-selling COD launch of all time. While the reviews have slowly been dropping off in recent years in COD, with MW2 and Vanguard not exactly setting the world alight, Modern Warfare III has fallen below them all. Modern Warfare 3 reviews worst of all time Looking at review scores on Metacritic, Modern Warfare 3 sits at a score of just 53. These critic reviews are based largely upon the campaign, when reviews first started to come out, so aren’t always fully reflective of the game in its entirety. This 53 is far below other titles in the franchise. For comparison, MWII got 75, Vanguard got 73, and Black Ops Cold War got 76. This is a huge contrast to some of the top COD games, with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007) and Modern Warfare 2 (2009) clocking in at 94 each, while the likes of Warzone got 88 and Black Ops 1 got 87. Dexerto gave the game a score of 3 out of 5 in our review, with the fun multiplayer experience salvaging what was a lackluster campaign — an area of the game that most complaints are focused on. No doubt players will mostly judge the game on multiplayer and how much they enjoy that, rather than the campaign, but it definitely doesn’t look good for Sledgehammer Games’ latest effort.

Modern Warfare 3 August 6 update patch notes: STG44 buff, RPK Conversion nerf, more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 August 6 update patch notes: STG44 buff, RPK Conversion nerf, more ActivisionThe developers have come out with a small update for Warzone and MW3 that will tamp down the RPK Conversion kit and provide a few quality-of-life buffs. The August 6 update will nerf the RPK JAK Cataclysm Conversion Kit through the ammo available in each Munitions Box, bringing it down by a whopping 75%. The notes also detail a dozen minor bug fixes between the IU, the map G3T_H1GH, COD Warrior mode, and various weapons. Players should only feel this update if they have been abusing the RPK or the exploit that allowed them to carry more weapons than allowed on Zombies. This is the second supplementary patch MW3 has received since the massive Season 5 patch on July 24, which introduced a host of new content and weapon balance changes. Modern Warfare 3 patch notes Multiplayer UIX Bug Fixes Fixed an issue preventing the JAK Burnout Kit from being equipped to the Holger 26 Light Machine Gun. – – Maps G3T_H1GH Fixed an issue preventing the Mosquito Drone from targetting enemy players. – – Modes COD Warrior Fixed an issue causing players to die immediately in the Revive! Modern Warfare 3 attachment completely removes recoil on MW2 assault rifle – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 attachment completely removes recoil on MW2 assault rifle ActivisionOne of the Aftermarket Parts in MW3 completely removes vertical recoil on a Modern Warfare 2 assault rifle, making it perfect for beaming opponents at any range. The addition of Aftermarket Parts or Conversion Kits has seen a whole new layer of gameplay added to Call of Duty, making huge changes to weapons to make them used in completely different ways. In Season 4, Modern Warfare 3 introduced the JAK Requiem, a new AMP for MW2’s Kastov 762, a recreation of the iconic AK47 — though not quite as powerful. In the attachment’s description, it says: “A counter-balanced rifle system designed to completely eliminate vertical recoil” — and the description is absolutely accurate, as the attachment reduces vertical recoil by 100%, quite literally making it nonexistent. This was showcased by JGOD, who gave previews of both the regular Kastov 762 and the weapon with the JAK Requiem, showing a complete difference. While the weapon’s recoil pattern wasn’t that hard to control in the first place, the removal of vertical recoil makes it significantly easier to use. Even so, don’t expect the Kastov 762 to burst into the meta anytime soon, unlike other weapons that have got the JAK treatment. While the likes of the BP50 and MCW turned into formidable SMGs with their Aftermarket Parts, the Kastov 762 doesn’t quite pack the same punch. It isn’t going to hit anywhere near as hard as the current meta Warzone classes, making it a difficult option to justify using. The gun will still be outclassed by other weapons known for their accuracy like the Holger 26 and SVA 545. However, if you struggle hitting your long-range shots consistently even with the best Warzone controller settings, the JAK Requiem might at least be worth considering.

Modern Warfare 3 AR is “easily” Warzone’s best as it still dominates everything – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 AR is “easily” Warzone’s best as it still dominates everything ActivisionModern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 3 Reloaded are nearing their end, yet one assault rifle that has topped the meta of both games since its introduction remains as dominant as ever. In Season 3, Sledgehammer added the BP50 to MW3 and Warzone. This extremely versatile AR-SMG hybrid is a true jack-of-all-trades weapon with practically no downsides. It has a great TTK, fast mobility, low recoil, and excels in multiple roles. It dominated on release, with the community quickly figuring out that the BP50 was now one of the best guns in the game. Several weeks on, with Season 4 releasing on May 29, it is somehow still meta-defining and the best overall assault rifle in Warzone. Warzone expert WhosImmortal echoed this sentiment, calling the BP50 “so fun and so versatile,” commending its unique ability to function equally well as both a sniper support weapon and a competitive, long-range option. The praise continued with WhosImmortal describing the BP50 as “easily the best assault rifle as it stands” – going as far as to name it his favorite gun in the entire meta. Here’s the BP50 loadout recommended by WhosImmortal: Muzzle: Casus Brake – Barrel: Lore-9 Heavy Barrel – Stock: Moat-40 Stock – Underbarrel: DR-6 Handstop – Magazine: 45 Round Mag – The BP50’s incredible versatility cannot be understated. Not only is it a dominant assault rifle, but with the JAK Revenger Kit equipped, it can be an incredible SMG too. This powerful Aftermarket Part was released in Season 3 Week 4. It converts the BP50 into an SMG with a 60-round drum magazine, a rapid close-range TTK, and unmatched mobility. It becomes the perfect weapon for rushing other teams and racking up kills with ease. Given how much it can do, and the fact that it’s equally strong in multiplayer as it is in Warzone, the BP50 is a prime candidate to get nerfed in Season 4. The fate of the dominant AR is still uncertain, but it seems unlikely it will remain untouched for much longer. Check out the best Warzone loadouts for more incredible builds and classes, hand-selected to give you the best chance of winning more matches.

Modern Warfare 3 announces long-awaited return of Rebirth Island & Fortune’s Keep in Warzone – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 announces long-awaited return of Rebirth Island & Fortune’s Keep in Warzone ActivisionRaven Software shocked Warzone fans at Call of Duty Next by announcing the return of Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep in Modern Warfare 3. Here is everything you need to know about both fan-favorite maps coming back. COD Next provided fans with a first look at Warzone’s latest map, Urzikstan. It will be the fourth large-scale map in Warzone history, following Verdansk, Caldera, and Al Mazrah. Most notably, the map does away with large open areas and instead features a dense urban setting. However, Urzistan is not the only map coming to Warzone in Modern Warfare 3. The upcoming battle royale title carries over Ashika Island and Vondel from MW2. As for competitive action, Raven Software Senior Creative Director Ted Timmins confirmed at COD Next that the battle royale will receive Ranked Play mode in early 2024. And just when we thought that was all, Timmins dropped a bombshell and announced the return of Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep to Warzone in Modern Warfare 3. Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep make triumphant return in Modern Warfare 3 CharlieIntel reported: “Fortune’s Keep and Rebirth Island will return in Call of Duty Warzone in 2024.” The Call of Duty insider added that Fortune’s Keep returns first in early 2024, while Rebirth Island comes back later in 2024. Fortune’s Keep was primarily developed by High Moon Studios and launched in June 2022. The small-scale Resurgence map made a very strong first impression on players but only stayed in the map rotation until WZ2 launched in November 2023. As for Rebirth Island, the fan-favorite Resurgence map launched in 2020 and also remained active until WZ2 was released. Four Resurgence maps at once will inevitably create some challenges for the devs. As we saw during COD Vanguard, Raven Software controversially rotated between Rebirth Island Fortune’s Keep. Community members slammed the decision to constantly and temporarily remove maps. Raven Software heard the criticism loud and clear and introduced a new system in WZ2 that rotated through Vondel and Ashika Island in 15-minute intervals rather than on a daily basis. Having four maps at once is obviously a much more difficult task to manage, so it will be interesting to see how the devs respond this time around. In the meantime, make sure to check out the rest of our Modern Warfare 3 Warzone coverage.

Modern Warfare 3 and Diablo IV fans will have to wait longer for Xbox Game Pass integration – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 and Diablo IV fans will have to wait longer for Xbox Game Pass integration ActivisionActivision Blizzard announced Call of Duty and Diablo IV won’t be on Xbox Games Pass this year but outlined a plan to add both titles eventually. Microsoft’s nearly $70 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard remains in the balance. The deal took a significant step towards being completed after Microsoft won its case against the FTC in federal court. In one final push, Microsoft recently restructured its deal in the UK. The Competition & Markets Authority said it will issue its final judgment on or before October 18. If the CMA approves the re-structured deal, the deal is reportedly on track to be finalized by October 13. Fortunately, PlayStation fans have nothing to fear, as Microsoft reached an agreement, keeping Call of Duty games on PlayStation consoles. However, a completed deal opens the door for Microsoft to add Activision Blizzard titles to Xbox Game Pass, and fans finally received a long-awaited update on that process. Are Modern Warfare 3 and Diablo IV coming to Xbox Game Pass? Call of Duty fans initially assumed the series’ debut on Xbox Game Pass might be imminent. In a leaked message on the Xbox store, Brazilian gamers received a message about Black Ops 2 being free, and some fans even added COD Ghosts to their Game Pass library for no additional cost. Despite that, Activision Blizzard put any speculation to rest in an official announcement. On October 9, Activision Blizzard announced: “While we do not have plans to put Modern Warfare® III or Diablo IV into Game Pass this year, once the deal closes, we expect to start working with Xbox to bring our titles to more players around the world. And we anticipate that we would begin adding games into Game Pass sometime in the course of next year.” As previously mentioned, Call of Duty and Diablo coming to Game Pass is dependent upon the Activision Blizzard acquisition going through. We will provide an update when we know more about both franchises making the leap to Xbox.

Modern Warfare 3 Aftermarket Parts explained: Akimbo SMG, Renetti, more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 3 Aftermarket Parts explained: Akimbo SMG, Renetti, more ActivisionSledgehammer Games gave fans a sneak peek of what they can expect from the Modern Warfare 3 Gunsmith and the new Aftermarket Parts system. Modern Warfare 2 attempted to add an extra layer of depth to weapon customization with tuning. The feature allows players to re-adjust individual attachments to alter their attachments. When done correctly, players could individualize their weapons to suit their playstyle perfectly. For example, while editing an under-barrel attachment, you can focus more on recoil stabilization or aim down-sight speed. Community members took advantage of tuning to have ARs perform closer to SMGs or LMGs closer to ARs. Depending on the game mode, there are plenty of ways to use a weapon, and Aftermarket Parts expands on that concept in Modern Warfare 3. What are Modern Warfare 3 Aftermarket Parts? On October 2, Sledgehammer Games released an Intel Drop going over the new Aftermarket Parts feature. Sledgehammer Games design director Zach Hodson added: “You can choose a Conversion Kit that’s going to absolutely turn that gun’s identity on its head and give you an entirely new way to play with the weapon.” For specific weapons that reach max level, players will be able to transform that gun with Aftermarket parts after completing in-game challenges. The MW3 devs revealed three conversion kit examples. Pulemyot LMG Players unlock the bullpup conversion kit by getting 25 kills while hip firing using Tac-Stance after reaching the max level for the Pulemyot 762. This set of Aftermarket Parts attachments increases the LMG’s mobility, handling, rate of fire, and hip fire recoil. In addition, the conversion kit offers a barrel for improved bullet velocity and damage range, making an aggressive playstyle more feasible. Renetti Handgun Next up, by reaching the max level of the Renetti and getting 30 kills with five attachments equipped, players unlock a full auto carbine for the sidearm. Through the use of 3D printed parts, the MW3 devs transform the pistol into more of an SMG with increased bullet velocity, range, and rate of fire, while sacrificing mobility and recoil control. WSP Swarm with Akimbo Brace Stocks And finally, the WSP Akimbo Brace Stocks allow players to equip two Swarm SMGs at once. The Aftermarket Parts are unlocked by completing the weekly challenge during MW3’s preseason. Using both SMGs at once does come at the cost of damage range and mobility, but a massive increase in fire rate makes the trade-off well worth it. That’s everything we know about Aftermarket Parts. Players will learn more about Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer and Warzone during Call of Duty Next on October 5.

Modern Warfare 2’s Santa Sena Border Crossing boasts awesome Breaking Bad easter egg – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2’s Santa Sena Border Crossing boasts awesome Breaking Bad easter egg ActivisionEagle-eyed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players have noticed a reference to acclaimed TV show Breaking Bad on the Santa Sena Border Crossing multiplayer map. Much has been said about the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer maps since the game’s global launch on October 28, and no more so than Santa Sena Border Crossing. The environment, set at a war-torn border point between the USA and Mexico, has been blasted as one of Call of Duty’s worst ever maps, primarily because of its bizarre shape and glut of cars and trucks obscuring lines of sight. However, it may be about to win more favor with the MW2 player base after a neat easter egg was discovered on one of the map’s RVs, nodding to acclaimed TV show Breaking Bad. Santa Sena Border Crossing has Breaking Bad reference in MW2 An RV around the middle of Santa Sena Border Crossing possesses five pieces of gaffer tape on the door in a small circle, almost certainly a reference to the RV that features in Breaking Bad and becomes the mobile home of the show’s protagonists. The reference dates back to the show’s earliest episodes, when Jesse and Walter are attacked in the RV by a drug cartel and holes are shot into the vehicle’s door. Reluctant to change vehicle, Jesse and Walter tape over the bullet holes and continue to use the RV. It might not placate fans who are unhappy with the map’s design, flow and replayability, but it’s certainly a cool detail that nods to an all-time great TV show. It also gives players reasons to look out for easter eggs and references in Modern Warfare 2’s other multiplayer maps, no more so than Shoothouse and Shipment, both of which have now been confirmed as the fan favorite maps dropping with Season 1.

Modern Warfare 2’s rare New Year easter egg finally uncovered – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2’s rare New Year easter egg finally uncovered ActivisionModern Warfare 2 players have uncovered a bit of an Easter Egg with the New Year’s bundle that only appears after you’ve eliminated an enemy. Over the years, Call of Duty has dipped into the cosmetics market with character skins and guns, but it’s taken on a new life with the rise of Call of Duty: Warzone and newer titles. Players can now splash the cash on everything from weapon skins, gun stickers, and even calling cards. The most common way to get your hands on these is by purchasing a bundle in the in-game store, which sometimes throws in a few bonuses like tracer bullets and sprays on top of what you actually want. With the calendar turning over to the new year, there are plenty of new bulges in the store, including one celebrating the arrival of 2023. That has its own secret as well, and players are pretty impressed by it. Modern Warfare 2’s secret 2023 celebration easter egg uncovered That’s right, if you’ve been scrolling through the in-game store recently and spotted the 2023 bundle, then you might want to make it yours and add it to your inventory. Why? Well, as Redditor TNT_Jonathan managed to point out, the bundle actually contains a secret splatter that appears if you eliminate an enemy near a wall or from above. By killing an enemy next to a wall, you’ll see a blood splatter saying ‘23, which celebrates the new year pretty subtly. Though, you might also see one that is a bit more in your face as it says Happy New Year. The ‘23 splatter is the more common one, according to the Redditor’s testing, but the Happy New Year splatter isn’t exactly impossible to get. Other bundles have had similar splatters in the past, so it might be something we see more frequently as new items are released. It is a pretty neat sight after all.

Modern Warfare 2’s flash grenades are so bright players are begging for a “dark mode” – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2’s flash grenades are so bright players are begging for a “dark mode” Flash grenades in Modern Warfare 2 achieve their purpose, but too effectively. Players want a dark mode feature to help deal with the headache-inducing equipment item. Modern Warfare 2 introduced an arsenal of new equipment items. Most notably, the Drill Charge finally gave players a way to deal with campers. Players even lauded it as CoD’s “best addition” in years. While the Drill Charge is unique to Call of Duty, flash grenades appear in every first-person shooter title. The classic grenade temporarily blinds opponents. In CS:GO, players can turn around to avoid getting flashed, but CoD players don’t have that same luxury. Modern Warfare 2 players feel the brunt of every flash grenade thrown and are especially disoriented on smaller maps such as Shipment and Shoot House. Modern Warfare 2 players fed up with overpowering flash grenades A Reddit user pleaded for the MW2 developers to add “dark mode” flash grenades as an option. Battlefield 2042 has an accessibility feature that allows players to change the concussion effect from bright to dark. So, Instead of the entire screen flashing white and causing eye strain, the screen cuts to black. One player responded, “That’d be amazing. They’re burning through my skull with the frequency they’re thrown in this game.” MW2 does have the Battle Hardened perk, which reduces the effect of flash grenades, but a second user argued the perk is not effective enough. “Either that or buff battle hardened because that perk doesn’t do almost anything against flashbang.” A third community member jokingly claimed, “No joke, I’ve started playing shipment with sunglasses on.” For now, the best advice we have is to equip a Trophy System, which deflects grenades or even close your eyes. We will provide an update if flash grenades receive a nerf.

Modern Warfare 2’s DMZ mode reportedly not a standalone F2P title after all – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2’s DMZ mode reportedly not a standalone F2P title after all ActivisionModern Warfare 2’s leaked DMZ game mode is reportedly not a free-to-play, standalone offering after all. In fact, new reports suggest that developers are looking to temper expectations, claiming it’s just “another mode” and that earlier rumors have “exaggerated” its scope. Throughout the leadup to Call of Duty’s 2022 release in Modern Warfare 2, a number of reports along the way have shifted attention over to a new Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) project instead. Initially described as a hardcore Escape From Tarkov-style game mode, DMZ had reportedly been in development since 2018, making it one of the longest undertakings in franchise history. Various claims pointed towards new features, an emphasis on tactical gameplay, and even the permanent loss of equipment you take into any given match, akin to EFT. Given its reported scope, at first, DMZ was supposedly set to be a free-to-play (F2P) title, standing separate from any mainline release, no different from Warzone. However, new reports indicate those earlier comments were off-base, with devs seemingly growing “frustrated” by misinformation overly hyping what’s supposedly just “another mode.” Going against earlier coverage, prominent industry insider Tom Henderson has since reported that DMZ isn’t a F2P title launching in 2023. Instead, it’s supposedly tied to this year’s title and “will launch later this year with Modern Warfare 2.” Rumors suggesting otherwise have even caused “frustration among those associated with its development,” Henderson added. In large part, devs appear to be agitated over “false expectations,” as previous reports may have overblown the project’s ambition. Read More: Everything we know about Warzone 2 – “Recent rumblings of the DMZ appear to have been exaggerated,” he explained. The plan moving forward, according to Henderson’s sources, is to evolve launch DMZ as part of Modern Warfare 2, then evolve it over time. Therefore, fans eagerly awaiting this mode to scratch that EFT itch within CoD should perhaps keep their expectations in check. As the DMZ mode is still yet to be revealed in any official capacity, it’s worth taking this intel with a grain of salt. Plans can obviously still change throughout development, after all. With just a few months to go before Modern Warfare 2’s October 28 launch, however, we’re sure to hear more in the very near future. We’ll be sure to keep you posted with all the latest right here.

Modern Warfare 2’s crazy “two-shot” pistol outguns SMGs and ARs – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2’s crazy “two-shot” pistol outguns SMGs and ARs ActivisionLooking to get ahead of the curve with your loadouts in Modern Warfare 2? You might want to consider giving a “crazy” two-shot pistol a go. Following on from the early access period for the campaign, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer has finally gone live, giving CoD fans around the globe the chance to dive into the new game. The multiplayer side of MW2 has undergone a few changes from the multiple beta weekends, but there are still a few complaints from players centered around TTK, the maps, and the new Gunsmith system – especially when it comes to unlocking guns. If you’ve grinded your way through things a bit, you’ve more than likely got most of the weapons on offer for you to use. If that’s the case, you may need to rejig your loadouts and run the P890 pistol as it’s rather deadly. “Crazy” two-shot pistol outguns MW2 SMGs and assault rifles That’s right, instead of forcing Overkill into a class, you might want to just settle for a normal pistol as your secondary weapon. Why? Well, as YouTuber JackFrags points out, it’s pretty “crazy” at the minute. “You don’t need any attachments for it or anything like that and it absolutely just deletes people,” the YouTuber said on October 30, showing multiple examples of him taking down enemies in two shots. “This thing is absolutely crazy. I think the two-shot distance is super close, maybe three meters, but you can actually outshoot like SMGs, assault rifles, and sometimes shotguns if they miss,” he added, further proving his points with a handful more kills. Timestamp of 0:50 As the YouTuber was blown away by the “insane” damage dealt by the pistol, some viewers couldn’t help but celebrate. “Yes! A proper meta pistol for once,” said one. “That’s stupid OP,” added another. Naturally, if the weapon is a bit too far on the overpowered side of things, Infinity Ward will likely step in and tone it down a bit. Though, the game has only been out for a short while so there might be a bit of a wait before that happens.

Modern Warfare 2’s aim assist revives heated controller vs mouse & keyboard feud – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2’s aim assist revives heated controller vs mouse & keyboard feud ActivisionA Reddit video explaining Call of Duty’s “rotational aim assist” sparked the age-old debate of controller versus mouse and keyboard. Aim assist is a tool that evens the playing field between console and PC players on FPS titles. Simply put, aim assist snaps the crosshair onto enemies while using a controller to compensate for its limited mobility compared to a keyboard and mouse. Professional Warzone player Aydan believes aim assist gives console players an “unfair” advantage. OpTic Gaming’s ‘Dashy‘ explained why nerfing aim assist could improve Call of Duty forever. A video showcasing Call of Duty’s “rotational aim assist” fueled the fire of an already contentious debate. What is rotational aim assist? Reddit user Craz-Zucchini1984 created a video showing different examples of rotational aim assist on a controller. Players are pre-conditioned to aim with the right stick while using a controller. However, for rotational aim assist, only using the left stick or slightly touching the right stick makes the game do all the leg work for you. Watching the video below does better justice than any explanation. One player in the comments did their best to break down the feature. “You should be primarily using the left stick only & using the right stick only to snap your reticle or turn on people.” A second user added, “this is what PC players have been complaining about. They don’t want slow-down aim assist removed, they want rotational toned down, so it doesn’t stick to you and give you 100% accuracy.” The most significant point of contention is controller players receiving an unfair advantage. “Honestly, impressive how people can blindly believe this isn’t flat-out broken; it’s not even “aim assist” anymore; it’s just aiming for you.” Modern Warfare 2’s beta gave us a taste of its aim assist, and players are outraged with the amount of aim assist controller players have. The debate appears to have no solution in sight for either side.

Are Zombies coming to Modern Warfare 2? CoD devs respond to rumors from fans – Dexerto
Are Zombies coming to Modern Warfare 2? CoD devs respond to rumors from fans ActivisionModern Warfare 2 players have been eagerly awaiting the possible addition of the popular Zombies mode – But will the Infinity Ward title return to the classic CoD mode? Here’s everything we know about whether MW2 will have Zombies. Call of Duty has introduced players to a plethora of modes over the years but few have maintained the staying power of the franchise’s beloved Zombies mode. Introduced as a bonus level in World At War, no one expected the simplistic mayhem of shooting the undead to take off like it has. Despite several iterations, the mode has never made an appearance in the Modern Warfare franchise. However, despite the lack of Modern Warfare zombies, many fans have spotted the inclusion of a Zombie-style game mode, prompting the question, will Modern Warfare 2 have Zombies? We have all the answers here. Will Modern Warfare 2 have Zombies? No, Modern Warfare 2 will not have zombies. As confirmed in an interview from VentureBeat, the PR team at Infinity Ward explained that “there will be no zombies” in Modern Warfare 2. While they didn’t expand on the statement, the answer is undeniably definite, further confirming we will not be seeing the popular Zombies mode in the recent Modern Warfare iteration. Such a statement follows previous rumors where one player pointed toward some hidden playlist assets. Spotted alongside the likes of Capture The Flag and Hardpoint, the playlist appeared to display a ‘Round-Based Zombies’ mode. Despite these rumors and excitement from fans, the hidden game mode is now unlikely to ever come to fruition. It seems players will have to enjoy the current game modes in Modern Warfare 2 or try out DMZ and Warzone 2. Alternatively, for those wanting to play something a little more zombie-like, there could be an Infection mode coming to the game soon thanks to a leak.

Modern Warfare 2 writers want to make a Ghost spinoff – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 writers want to make a Ghost spinoff Activision BlizzardCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s creative leads want to develop a spinoff based on the origins of Simon “Ghost” Riley. Having first appeared in 2009’s Modern Warfare 2, Ghost arguably counts among the better-known Call of Duty characters. Other entries in the series have even featured his likeness for customization purposes. Many will recall the Task Force 141 member starring in the Modern Warfare 2: Ghost comic series, which follows his pre-special forces adventures. Yet, some Call of Duty developers want to take a shot at exploring Ghost’s origin story with a bit more depth. Modern Warfare 2 devs want a spinoff focused on Ghost Narrative Director Jeffrey Negus and Head Writer Brian Bloom revealed their dream Call of Duty spinoff project during an interview with IGN. “Yeah, I’m going to say it. Ghost’s origin story,” Bloom told the publication when asked about the ideal one-off game. According to Bloom, other developers bear a similar interest in taking a closer look at Ghost’s past. The writer noted the character’s iconic mask and other “superficial elements” presented the team with interesting questions while developing the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 release. “And exploring that, and looking at that would be something I think the audience would love, and we would love to get into,” he continued. Negus chimed in as well, saying thoughts about a potential Ghost spinoff never stray far from internal discussions. “It’s hard for us not to jam on like, ‘Man, wouldn’t that be cool?’” Fortunately, Call of Duty fans interested in seeing more of Ghost in action won’t have to wait very long. The character will return for the Modern Warfare (2019) sequel, which lands in stores at the end of this month. This year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 hits PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms on October 28.

Modern Warfare 2 will completely change how water works in Warzone – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 will completely change how water works in Warzone Swimming in Call of Duty dates all the way back to World at War in 2008. 14 years later, after several iterations, Modern Warfare 2 will “redefine water” and before long it will be in Warzone as well. During an early access preview event, attended by Charlie Intel, Game Director Jack O’Hara admitted the previous implementation of water was “not the best we could’ve done, so we sat down to talk about how to use it in this project.” CoD Black Ops: 3 first introduced swimming during a Multiplayer match. Black Ops 4 and Cold War also included the feature in a light capacity, but O’Hara emphasized that Modern Warfare 2 aims to “use water in combat spaces in a meaningful way” – and the changes will impact numerous modes, including battle royale. Water and swimming will be key features in Modern Warfare 2 Singleplayer, Multiplayer, and will eventually impact Warzone with integration. Swimming returns in Modern Warfare 2, coming to Warzone This will be the first time we see swimming in a CoD battle royale since Blackout during Black Ops 4. O’Hara said that it was “hard to make a Warzone map where you jump into the water and die all the time,” explaining the thinking behind the decision. Infinity Ward wanted to focus on visual fidelity when developing Modern Warfare 2’s seas and rivers. Everything underwater will reflect on the surface above, waves have distortion based on a server-side system, and swimming, caustics, refraction, light, and collision are all client-side for a realistic swimming experience. There are shipwrecks, rivers with currents, clean and dirty water, and rapids, all in an effort to make the world seem alive. Only Pistols, throwing knives, and mele can be used underwater. You can aim down sights and switch back to a primary weapon on the surface but not underwater. Equipment such as the land mine will float on the water with the waves and can destroy boats. A diving mechanic allows players to escape engagements and there are other traversal maneuvers in the water. Boats react to the waves and water does not clip through the bottom of the boat. O’Hara said “in service to make vehicles shine and have everything look really natural and feel really natural. O’Hara set the bar high for Modern Warfare 2 stating, that we “wanted it to look amazing, and the best water you have seen in Call of Duty.” For more Modern Warfare 2 exclusive stories, check these out: MW2 world reveal trailer | EMP gets rework in MW2 | Lethal AI bots coming to Warzone & MW2 | Campaign details revealed | Water rework for MW2 & Warzone maps | New Multiplayer default classes | Major Gunsmith changes | 5 Multiplayer maps confirmed | New MW2 equipment | How to pre-order Modern Warfare 2 | Anti-cheat for MW2

Modern Warfare 2 was most played beta in Call of Duty history – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 was most played beta in Call of Duty history ActivisionDespite harsh criticism from several corners of the CoD community, The Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta boasted the highest player count in franchise history. The Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta concluded on September 26. Spanning two separate weekends, the playest provided ample time for players to try out the CoD’s new installment. Infinity Ward attempted to address community concerns on two separate occasions, but frustrations boiled over, resulting in mixed reviews. With just over a month before the game’s official release, there is a long laundry list of changes players want. It may look all doom and gloom; However, Beta stats paint a much brighter picture for the upcoming first-person shooter. Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta numbers shatter expectations The official Call of Duty Twitter account revealed the Modern Warfare 2 Beta was “the biggest Call of Duty Beta ever.” Call of Duty didn’t provide concrete stats, but the developers claimed the Beta had the most hours played, most players, and most matches played in franchise history. The Modern Warfare 2 Beta topped Steam Charts during the second weekend, backing up the ambitious claim. The Beta reached a peak concurrent player count of 169,000 and recorded over eight million hours of playtime. The latest CoD title also reached the number one selling game on Steam at one point before falling to Cyberpunk 2077. Unfortunately, we don’t have player count numbers for PlayStation and Xbox, so it’s impossible to know how many players logged in for the Beta. Modern Warfare 2019 holds the throne as the highest-selling cod game of all time, surpassing 30 million copies sold. Modern Warfare 2 has the potential to surpass its predecessor, based on Beta numbers alone.

Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone October 4 update patch notes: Redeploy flares removed, bug fixes, more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone October 4 update patch notes: Redeploy flares removed, bug fixes, more ActivisionBuried in a small update focused on bug fixes, Warzone subtly changed how the final circles work with the removal of redeploy flares. Raven Software and other supporting studios have not shied away from making groundbreaking changes in Warzone. In August, the devs made a bold decision to decrease the player count on Al Mazrah from 150 to 100. To explain why the change was made, the Warzone devs argued: “We’re reducing the number of players across our core Battle Royale modes, which will prevent the match feeling too chaotic but provide improved matchmaking times, faster pre-game lobbies, and a better quality of match overall.” This time around, the devs doubled down on improving the flow of matches by removing redeploy flares. Let’s jump right into why this choice was made. Redeploy flares removed from Warzone Season 4 introduced redeploy flares to Warzone. the Field Upgrade allows a player to redeploy a randomly selected Squadmate back into the battle. Redeploy flares were found via loot cache, ground loot, or could be purchased from buy stations. Despite the Field Upgrade providing a good way for teammates to feel involved, it also came with downsides. After redeploying, teammates would hang in the air in the final circle to avoid getting killed, and teams would horde the field upgrade to make winning easier. The devs explained: “created situations with a general lack of competitive counter strategies, especially in the final moments of a Ranked Play Battle Royale match.” And because of that competitive unbalance, the devs ultimately decided to remove them entirely. Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone October 4 update patch notes Here are the full MW2 and WZ October 4 patch notes. Bug Fixes Fixed an issue where the Player can be kicked back to the main menu when attempting to access the “Manage Files” section in the Settings menu – Fixed an issue where a significant hitch could occur when transitioning to some menus from COD HQ – Fixed an issue where the Battle Pass After Action Report wouldn’t play correctly if the Player had Auto Redeem turned on – Fixed an issue where the ISO 9 Mastery Completeionist Charm displayed an incorrect Charm – Fixed an issue where the Player could be kicked back to the main menu when viewing Tracer Pack: Witchcraft – Fixed an issue where the Dual Kamas model is missing in the preview for the Red Haunt Blueprint – Fixed an issue where locked camos could be added to weapons before they were earned – Fixed an issue where the TR-76 Geist Mastery Completionist Charm would incorrectly show the FR Avancer instead – Warzone Bug Fixes Fixed an issue where the mission ‘Thinning the Herd’ could not be completed as intended due to Konni Group no longer spawning on Al Mazrah in DMZ – Fixed an issue where some melee weapons could clip through the Operator’s wrist when transitioning into a DMZ match – Fixed an issue where Skin Indicator tiles for several Operators could display inconsistently – Match Ruleset Updates Field Upgrades Redeploy Flares have been removed. Team Insight: Redeploy Flares often created situations with a general lack of competitive counter strategies, especially in the final moments of a Ranked Play Battle Royale match. – –

Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 players are vanishing through walls – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 players are vanishing through walls ActivisionModern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 players are pulling off vanishing acts by walking, diving, and jumping, through walls. As MW2 and & WZ2 continue to roll on, more and more bugs are popping out of the woodwork each day. This is without a doubt one of the most controversial entries on the list though, as players have found spots around Al Mazrah and at least one Multiplayer map where they can simply traverse through walls that are supposed to be completely solid. Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2’s hollow wall spots The first place is on Embassy, a Modern Warfare 2 map that’s also featured in the battle royale mode. This bugged wall is in the laundry room, just behind the kitchens in the top corner of the map. As the TikToker Varics shows off in the video embedded below, it’s possible to dolphin dive into a specific corner of the room and climb on through to the other side. In Warzone, it’s a bit more sinister. Anyone being chased through a specific building in Al Mazrah City can simply back hop on a plant, back through a wall, and disappear under the map. The only thing that will force them to find a ladder and climb back up is the inevitable arrival of the gas. Otherwise, this spot is indefinitely safe and creates a distinctly unfair advantage over the rest of the competition. This is only one confirmed spot, but players across the internet have reported finding similar bugged locations, though no footage of them has appeared yet. The community’s frustration over the number of bugs and glitches has certainly caused a stir, and some players have even attempted to organize a boycott for the release of the reported Sledehammer Games title later this year. As for Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2, the fanbase’s hopes lie on Season 2 to bring some much-needed fixes to the party.

While we know to expect a few things, like Plunder’s arrival in Warzone 2 & Gunfight in Modern Warfare 2, we now know a little more about what to expect, as well as a few fresh pieces of information thanks to the latest set of mines. Warzone 2 & Modern Warfare 2 datamines unearth game modes The info comes courtesy of BKTOOR on Twitter who did all the digging. In their search, they came across a good mix of expected and surprising updates. Plunder is indeed back, with icons for Solos, Duos, Trios, and Quads all being uncovered. Another one for the long-awaited Warzone 2 Ranked mode was also found. There’s no promise that these will both show up right at launch in Season 3, but they’re clearly on the horizon. On the Modern Warfare 2 side, the already-confirmed Gunfight also received some artwork, with two unexpected entrants in Capture The Flag and Demolition also coming to the party. Fans had hoped that CTF would make its return in time for the Call of Duty League season so it could serve as a replacement for Control, which has been viewed as subpar in recent titles by some on the pro side of things, but it is far too late in the season for that major of a change. It’s still unclear when these modes will roll out across the season, and as with all early leaks, it’s important to remember that things could still change before S3 launches in mid-April.

Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 Daily Login Rewards: End date, new Weapon Blueprint, more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 Daily Login Rewards: End date, new Weapon Blueprint, more ActivisionBoth Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 have taken a page out of CoD Mobile’s book with the arrival of Daily Login Rewards. From how the new system works to a rundown of the first rewards on offer, here’s what you need to know. When it comes to Call of Duty, as has been widely documented in the past, a fair few gamers play CoD and nothing else but CoD. Rather than hopping from one title to another, CoD is more of a fixture to this section of the community that constantly jump in no matter what. While there’s already a great deal of content for said players to sift through, especially with new seasonal updates always just on the horizon, Activision has now copied a system found in CoD Mobile over to its mainline entries to boost further engagement. Looking to honor the game’s most dedicated players, both current titles in focus now feature a Daily Login Reward system. Here’s how it all works. How to claim new Daily Login Rewards in Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 As the terminology implies, claiming your daily rewards is simply a matter of logging into either game on a daily basis. Upon booting up either Modern Warfare 2 or Warzone 2 on your platform of choice, you’ll automatically be notified of a new daily reward added to your inventory. Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 Daily Login Rewards end date As the new Daily Login Reward feature just went live as part of Season 4 Reloaded, there’s only a limited window in which to claim the first batch of goodies for yourself. This initial batch went live on July 19 and players only have until August 2 to claim their rewards. That gives you a 14-day window to get it all done, after which, the rewards expire and we’ll have to wait until Season 5 to see what’s in store next. All Daily Login Rewards in Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 Kicking things off, seven unique items are up for grabs through the Daily Rewards system across both games. Here’s the full list of what’s on offer: Day 1: ‘Looking into the Dark’ Loading Screen – Day 2: ‘Temporal Currents’ Vehicle Skin – Day 3: Double Battle Pass XP Token – Day 4: ‘Electrosnake’ Calling Card – Day 5: Double Weapon XP Token – Day 6: ‘Pinup Remix’ Emblem – Day 7: ‘No Truce’ Weapon Blueprint – This Blueprint for the M4 comes equipped with a 1MW Laser Box, SZ Lonewolf Optic, Commando Foregrip, and the XTEN Grip as its attachments.

Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 both set to launch with RICOCHET anti-cheat on day one – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 both set to launch with RICOCHET anti-cheat on day one ActivisionActivision’s proprietary RICOCHET anti-cheat system will deploy alongside new releases for the first time in Call of Duty franchise history as both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 are set to launch with the software on day one. After years of game-ruining cheats impacting the hit FPS franchise, and the presence of said hackers only skyrocketing with the release of the free-to-play Warzone, Activision finally looked to remedy the issue in 2021. A custom anti-cheat system known as RICOCHET was built from the ground up for the CoD series and gradually rolled out at the tail end of last year. From small beginnings in select regions with Warzone to global implementation following Vanguard’s release, the system is now active across the latest titles. While it’s not quite foolproof yet, as the cheating crisis hasn’t truly been eradicated, and perhaps never will be, RICOCHET isn’t going anywhere. We now know for certain that the next two major entries in the franchise, Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, will launch with the system in effect on day one. Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 to launch with RICOCHET anti-cheat In conversation with Dexerto sister site CharlieIntel, Activision confirmed that upon release, both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 will include the RICOCHET anti-cheat system. Rather than a gradual rollout seen with the current Warzone title, this means the next two launches will incorporate the software right away. From the very beginning, cheaters should be less prominent across the vast range of multiplayer experiences. While Modern Warfare 2 is locked in for an October 28, 2022 launch, it remains unclear when the Warzone follow-up may be available, though various reports point towards an early 2023 release. Although RICOCHET hasn’t been flawless, many have commended the anti-cheat system at various intervals, even labeling it an “overwhelming success” at times. We’ve seen everything from enormous ban waves booting 50,000 cheaters at once to hilarious instances where hackers have been singled out and humiliated. Now, it’s a guarantee the trend of minimizing game-breaking cheats like aimbots and wallhacks will continue in a big way with CoD’s next titles implementing RICOCHET right out of the gate. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 voice actors for all characters – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 voice actors for all characters ActivisionModern Warfare 2 has been out for a few months now, bringing with it a host of characters both old and new. Here is the full cast of voice actors in MW2 and the characters that they voice. Modern Warfare II launched with 15 different characters in the Campaign, who are also playable in multiplayer, Warzone, and DMZ. While there is still more to come with seasonal updates, the current crop of characters has already picked up some fanfare, whether they’re new or returning. We’ve seen the likes of Barry Sloane reprise his role as Price, as well as characters like Valeria Garza and Alejandro Vargas make their entry into the franchise. Here’s the full cast and list of voice actors in Modern Warfare 2, as shown in the Campaign credits: Alain Mesa: Alejandro Vargas – Rya Kihlstedt: Kate Laswell – Ace Marrero: Nunez – Warren Kole: Philip Graves – Bayardo De Murguia: Rodolfo Parra – Barry Sloane: Captain John Price – Neil Ellice: John ‘Soap’ MacTavish – Stefan Kapicic: Nikolai – Mari Elisa Camargo: Valeria Garza – Ramon Fernandez: Diego Salgado – Elliot Knight: Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick – Claudia Doumit: Farah Karim – Samuel Roukin: Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley – Glenn Moreshower: General Shepard – Ibrahim Renno: Hassan Zyani – As well as Sloane, there are some other recognizable names on the list too. Glenn Moreshower was also the FBI announcer in Black Ops 2 and the Overlord announcer in the original MW2 (2009). Samuel Roukin also played a Snatcher in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, while Alain Mesa has voiced characters in Saints Row, Red Dead Redemption 2, Fallout 4, and more. While it’s still early days for Modern Warfare 2, especially if the game does have a two-year lifecycle (though some reports suggest this might not be the case), players will have to get very acquainted with these voices and their characters in the coming years.

Modern Warfare 2 update makes brilliant change to weapon sights – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 update makes brilliant change to weapon sights ActivisionModern Warfare 2 Season 2 has made an interesting change to reticle attachments that could change the ways players go about selecting them for loadouts in future. After a delay, Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 is finally here and has brought with it a whole batch of new content such as the new ISO Hemlock, KV Broadside, Dual Kodachis, and Crossbow weapons. Not only that, but hardcore mode is also here too. There’s lots to be excited when it comes to the new season of Modern Warfare 2, but there has also been a smaller updates made to reticles in the game. Every now and again, a small change or two will be absent from the patch notes, which is understandable when so many changes are being made in a gigantic seasonal update such as this one. With ranked play added and news of gunfight on the way, attention has been diverted elsewhere. However, eagle-eyed CoD players have noticed a new change made to reticles in Modern Warfare 2 Season 2. Modern Warfare 2 players spot new reticle update in Season 2 Modern Warfare 2 Reddit user xpatrickmsx pointed out to fellow players that the devs have: “Added a reticle preview!” When selecting a reticle for a weapon now, if players highlight a reticle option, then a new box pops up next to the pros and cons showing how the reticle will appear in-game. The change has gone down well with the player base too with one user commenting: “This is a great feature!” and another person adding: “This one is a good change.” With news that Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 will receive an extra in addition to Dome and Museum, things are looking brighter for players after it was suggested that some players might skip Season 2 altogether.

Modern Warfare 2 Twitch viewership skyrockets after Season 2 launch – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 Twitch viewership skyrockets after Season 2 launch Activision/TwitchCall of Duty: Modern Warfare II saw a huge hike in Twitch viewership in the week following the launch of Season 2 on February 15, led predominantly by the Call of Duty League but followed by ranked streams from top creators like xQc. Season 2 saw a number of big changes across Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. In multiplayer, there were a number of weapon balancing changes, new maps introduced, and, one of the most sought-after changes, ranked play was finally introduced. With a number of top pros grinding out ranked play to reach the top 250, as well as some hugely successful CDL watch parties, the new season has brought in a huge viewership boost on Twitch. MW2 Twitch viewership boom In the seven days following the launch of Season 2, MW2 viewership on Twitch is up across all metrics in comparison to the seven days prior. While this is bolstered predominantly by the Call of Duty League and its corresponding co-streams, the numbers have still increased even when not including them. For example, total watch time is 6,485,235 hours throughout the period according to Twitch stats tracking website SullyGnome, an increase of over 4.2 million. If you take away around 1.5-2m hours for the pro league matches and the co-streams, you’re still looking at a huge increase. The stats were led by Seth ‘Scump’ Abner, the official Call of Duty channel, and Thomas ‘ZooMaa’ Paparatto. Also among the top most watched were Aydan, xQc, Symfuhny, Kai Cenat and others, with a number of Warzone streamers and those outside of it heading over to multiplayer to give the game a try. Season 2 has widely been heralded as an improvement across both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, and it’s clear to see that viewers are enjoying it more too.

Modern Warfare 2 TikToker reveals “insane” hip-fire PDSW 528 loadout – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 TikToker reveals “insane” hip-fire PDSW 528 loadout ActivisionThe P90 is an underrated Modern Warfare 2 SMG and a TikToker revealed a hip-fire loadout so powerful you won’t need to aim down sights ever again. Shoot House and Shipment provide the perfect battlefield for using SMGs in Modern Warfare 2. The close-combat-oriented multiplayer maps call for fast and mobile weapons. Players viewed the PDSW 528 as one of the weaker SMGs at launch, but the weapon received a buff in the Season 1 update. The update increased the SMG’s movement speed and damage range while decreasing hip fire spread. The PDSW 528 is inspired by the P90, a beloved SMG that debuted in the original Modern Warfare. 15 years later, the lethal close-range SMG is back and better than ever after the most recent update. A CoD TikToker took advantage of the PDSW’s reduced hip fire spread and created a run-and-gun monster loadout that eliminates the need to ever aim down sight. MW2 TikToker shares devastating PDSW 528 loadout CoD TikToker WesOnCod shared a PDSW 528, a highlight clip on Shoot House using a hip-fire loadout, and the weapon barely moved an inch while firing. The clip went viral, receiving over three million views and over 120 thousand likes. Here is WesOnCOd’s PSW 528 loadout. The TikTok didn’t include any attachment tuning, so we will assume he used the default attachments. Muzzle: Sanguard Ark V – Underbarrel: Bruen Warrior Grip – Barrel: 17″ Corvus ProRange – Laser: Hipshot L20 – Reargrip: Stip-40 Grip – The loadout maximizes the weapon’s hip fire capability without sacrificing too much in other important areas. This P90 loadout works perfectly in MW2 multiplayer but also has the potential to be a tremendous short-range option in Warzone 2. Makes sure to check out our guide on the best SMGs to use in Al Mazrah.

Modern Warfare 2 TikTok reveals “cheat code” for completing long-shot challenges – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 TikTok reveals “cheat code” for completing long-shot challenges ActivisionGrinding camos in Modern Warfare 2 can be grueling, but the Los Angeles Guerillas TikTok account revealed an easy trick for completing long-shot challenges. Modern Warfare 2 features 180 base and mastery camos, with the final unlockable camo being Orion. Warzone 2 streamer Skullface 49 became the first player to unlock the Orion camo, taking over 40 hours to do so. Unlocking mastery camos requires players to complete Gold, Platinum, and Polyatomic challenges before unlocking Orion. Infinity Ward brought back Shoot House and Shipment to expedite the camo unlocking process, but unlocking Platnium is no easy feat. The Platinum camo challenges call for long-shot kills, which can be difficult to muster, but fortunately, the Los Angeles Guerillas TikTok account revealed an easy trick for racking up long-distance kills. Modern Warfare 2 TikTok reveals essential weapon attachment for long-shots The Los Angeles Guerillas TikTok account claimed, “longshots are one of the most annoying stages of the mastery camo grind, but we have found an item that makes this easier than ever before.” Optic selections usually come down to personal preference, but the TikToker recommended using the Xten Angel-40 optic because it has an indicator on the scope with the exact meter distance for an enemy. “So slap this thing on, and good luck. Because at the end of the day, it’s still long shots, and you are going to need this.” Longshot requirements vary for each class, so knowing each number is a must for making the most use out of the Xten Angel-40. Here are the longshot distances for every MW2 weapon class. Shotguns: 12.5m – Pistols: 20m – SMGs: 30m – LMGs: 38m – Marksman Rifles: 38m – Battle Rifles: 38m – Sniper Rifles: 50m – Shipment is not long enough to complete longshot challenges, but if Infinity Ward ever adds back a Shoot House 24/7 playlist, we recommend aiming down the middle lane to complete the challenges easier. Make sure to check out our guide on unlocking weapon camos in Modern Warfare 2.

Modern Warfare 2 teaser reveals fan-favorite game mode coming at launch – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 teaser reveals fan-favorite game mode coming at launch ActivisionA new Modern Warfare 2 teaser has revealed that fan-favorite game mode Capture the Flag will drop with the game’s launch, potentially pointing to its involvement in the Call of Duty League as well. Details are rapidly piling up about Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2, with the game’s launch now firmly in view and the Beta even closer. We know, for instance, that the game will focus on conflict with Colombia’s infamous drug cartels and that, barring any late changes, it will also reincarnate a host of beloved Call of Duty maps. It appears that fan-favorite game modes are also on the agenda, with a recent teaser pointing to the involvement of Capture the Flag, as well as the standard Domination multiplayer mode. Modern Warfare 2 teaser confirms Capture the Flag multiplayer mode A new teaser, posted on September 10, revealed the logos for two different game modes, both of which corroborate past leaks. The first relates to Domination, a mode that was always a safe bet given its inclusion in every Call of Duty title in recent memory. The second, though, confirms that, barring any late development changes, Capture the Flag will feature from launch. As pointed out by leaker TheGhostofHope, the game mode logos confirm past leaks that CTF will return in Modern Warfare 2. Will Capture the Flag be in the Call of Duty League for MW2? Despite its popularity, plenty of recent CoD titles have omitted CTF. That has had a knock-on effect on competitive CoD, where Capture the Flag has historically featured. However, with no CTF in-game, recent competitive seasons – like Vanguard’s – have been forced to go without and use only three modes (Hardpoint, SnD, and Control). That could be set to change for the MW2 CDL season, however. CTF’s inclusion at launch does not confirm that it will be an esports mode, but it means the League has the option to diversify matches. As more details surrounding Modern Warfare 2 eke out, fan excitement will only increase.

Modern Warfare 2 players call for “ridiculous” Survivor perk to be removed – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 players call for “ridiculous” Survivor perk to be removed Activision BlizzardAfter downing a player several times in a span of seconds, one Modern Warfare 2 fan is calling for developers to remove the Survivor perk. The Survivor perk in MW2 works like a second chance at life. Attacks that would normally put a player out of commission will merely knock them down when Survivor is active. From there, the player will begin to bleed out on a 10-second timer, unless they’re able to quickly self-revive. This perk certainly has more than its fair share of benefits, yet some Call of Duty users see it as little more than a nuisance. Modern Warfare 2 players want to get rid of the Survivor perk In a recent Reddit post, a user named draculadarcula called for the removal of MW2’s controversial Survivor perk. They’d even settle for a “hard counter,” and it’s easy to see why when viewing the post’s attached gameplay clip. The video shows the Redditor downing one opponent multiple times in a span of 40 seconds. Some attacks were even headshots that should’ve instantly taken the enemy out of the game. Each time, however, the downed opponent got back up and kept fighting, all thanks to the “ridiculous” Survivor perk. Several Modern Warfare players agree with the original poster – something needs to be done about Survivor. Said one person on the matter, “the most annoying thing is that whoever kills them after they’re downed gets credit for the kill, not whoever downed them.” A few other users pointed out that headshots should definitely counter the perk’s benefits. However, there are those who don’t see the big deal, with some MW2 players arguing that “all you have to do is shoot them again.” Since this can often prove difficult under certain circumstances, many would rather just have the perk sidelined. It shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that Survivor isn’t a fan favorite of the MW2 perk system. The ability’s predecessor, Last Stand, never won the favor of players either.

Modern Warfare 2 streamer pulls off world’s fastest nuke in just 2 minutes – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 streamer pulls off world’s fastest nuke in just 2 minutes ActivisonA Modern Warfare 2 streamer has managed to secure the world’s fastest nuke in an unbelievable 2-minute killing spree. When you’re performing well in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, there’s nothing better than earning killstreaks to push your advantage to the max and take out as many foes as possible. While there are countless scorestreaks to choose from in MW2, there’s one that’s more sought-after than any other, and that’s the MGB or nuke. This requires you to rack up 30 consecutive kills just using a weapon and when activated, a massive plane will appear in the sky dropping five missiles down to the ground, instantly winning the game for the team who called it in. Although some competitors are still chasing their first MGB since release, one streamer has set a new record for the fastest nuke in MW2, earning it a mere 2 minutes. MW2 streamer sets record for fastest nuke killstreak Modern Warfare 2 streamer Jinsu has set a record for the fastest MGB or nuke by securing the killstreak in an insane time of 2 minutes. The talented player posted the clip of them on an unbelievable killing spree in multiplayer, racking up countless kills with ease. With their in-depth knowledge of the map, Jinsu is able to pinpoint the location and spawns of every single opponent, leaving them completely vulnerable to their precise aim. Jinsu’s movement accuracy is so impressive, very few foes even have a chance to fire back at them in gunfights, making it totally one-sided. This record is even more impressive given Jinsu didn’t use an SMG, shotgun, or AR. Instead, they opted to use Overkill and equip two marksmen rifles in the SA-B 50 and SP-R 208. As you can see in the clips, Jinsu doesn’t use a scope but instead uses both guns’ clean iron sights to land consistent one-shots. It’ll be interesting to see if anyone can contest this record in the near future, but 30 kills in 2 minutes is going to be a hard time to beat.

Modern Warfare 2 specialist reveals eight “broken” Killstreaks – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 specialist reveals eight “broken” Killstreaks ActivisonThe LA Guerillas revealed Modern Warfare 2’s best Killstreaks, dependent upon different multiplayer play styles. Modern Warfare 2 features 19 different Killstreaks, but players can only equip three at once. On top of that, players decide if they want to earn streaks through kills alone (Killstreaks) or through focusing on the objective (Scorestreaks). Everyone approaches 6v6 multiplayer differently, and understanding the best possible loadout is essential. An ideal loadout realistically determines the number of possible kills or points earned over the course of a match. If you aim too low, you will miss out on the game’s best streaks, and if you shoot too high, it will be impossible to earn anything. The Los Angeles Guerillas took into account varying levels of skill and crafted four different streak combinations. Best Modern Warfare 2 Killstreaks and Scorestreaks The LA Guerrillas Tik Tok shared different streak combinations for different types of players. First up, the assassin setup uses UAV, Counter UAV, and Advanced UAV to reveal an enemy’s location constantly. This combination is great for going after a Nuke because it allows you to have a good feel of your surroundings. Next, the team player combination features UAV, Care Package, and Cruise Missle. This trio combines “recon and fire player for clearing the objectives.” If you are extremely confident in your gun skill, then the LA Guerillas recommend a slayer playstyle. Equip a Chopper, AC-130, and Juggernaut, with the primary mission of “making enemies rage quit as fast as possible.” Lastly, if a player considers themselves a mix of all three different playstyles, the TikToker recommends using UAV, Chopper, and Advanced UAV for a balanced mix of surveillance and slaying power. Sit back, honestly assess your playstyle, and then equip one of these four combos to make the most out of MW2’s streak system.

What is Modern Warfare 2 Spec Ops mode? Co-op, missions & more – Dexerto
What is Modern Warfare 2 Spec Ops mode? Co-op, missions & more Modern Warfare 2 is set to welcome back the popular Spec Ops mode, but is it taking the form of the OG version? Or will it resemble the Modern Warfare reboot? Most years, Call of Duty fans are treated to another spectacle of Zombies, the round-based onslaught against the undead. But Modern Warfare 2 is set to deviate from this as the franchise has occasionally done. Over the years, we’ve seen various Survival modes come into play, but we’ve also been presented with Specs Ops mode. It made its long-awaited comeback in 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot, but it behaved differently compared to how it was presented a decade before. Activision has said Spec Ops is back, but which version of it will players be getting? Here’s all we know about Modern Warfare 2’s Spec Ops game mode. Contents What is Spec Ops in Modern Warfare? In 2008’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward included a new Spec Ops mode that offered up 23 fun and frantic mini-levels based on CoD4 and MW2. For whatever reason, Spec Ops disappeared for many years until it was brought back when the Modern Warfare franchise was given a fresh coat of paint. These missions were a bit longer and could include up to four players, but they didn’t quite retain the same feel as the first incarnation of Spec Ops. Modern Warfare 2 Spec Ops: How will it work? Unlike Modern Warfare 2’s campaign and online multiplayer, which have received a full deep dive into their qualities and what they’re about, the company has kept a bit more silent about Spec Ops. This is what the official Call of Duty blog has had to say about Spec Ops: “Continue the story after the Modern Warfare II Campaign concludes with this in-depth two-player cooperative experience allowing you to explore large-scale hot zones with your fellow squadmate. Assemble your two-person strike team for a number of branching operations against [REDACTED], available at launch.” Every Modern Warfare 2 Spec Ops Mission Activision confirmed three missions at launch and more content coming during Season 1. Here are all of the Spec Ops Missions we know so far. Low Profile — The mission requires a stealthy infiltration of a town during the dead of night to uncover intel and evidence. – Denied Area — Teams must navigate through a suburb’s winding streets with the help of a vehicle to destroy SAM turrets. – Defender: Mt Zaya — Described as a “love letter to fans of survival modes,” teams fight off waves of enemies while defending bombs from getting detonated. – Spec Ops progression system Players can choose between three different Perk Kits, and each Special Ops Kit can be leveled up to a maximum rank of 10 by replaying missions or completing challenges. The developers recommend completing all three Special Ops Missions with Three stars and having one Kit leveled up to Tier 5 before taking on Raids. Here are the three Special Ops Kits. Assault — This kit focuses on armor; later levels offer more stims and armor capacity. – Medic — Medics offer quicker revives with a Revive Pistol, and later levels offer free claymores and anti-tank mines. – Recon — The Recon kit focuses on equipment with a Snapshot Pulse and the ability to automatically restock Lethals and Tacticals at later levels. A free Heartbeat Sensor is also included at later levels. – We will update this guide once we know about Modern Warfare 2’s Spec Ops and the content coming during Season 1. Modern Warfare 2 sniper loadout brings back classic Intervention in Warzone – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 sniper loadout brings back classic Intervention in Warzone ActivisionThis Modern Warfare 2 sniper rifle can be used to recreate the classic MW2 intervention in Warzone, throwing players back to 2009 while still putting up some serious damage. Snipers have been a serious point of contention among Warzone players ever since the game launched, with the early days of the Kar98k dominating in Verdansk to now, when the same gun is back in MW3 and wreaking havoc in both battle royale and multiplayer. While Modern Warfare 3 devs Sledgehammer Games have confirmed that there will be a Kar98k nerf coming in the Season 4 Reloaded update, that doesn’t necessarily mean that sniping will be dead in Warzone — it may not even see the demise of the Kar98, which may well still pack a punch post-update. That said, if the nerf does mean the end of the Kar98 meta in Warzone, there are plenty of alternatives waiting, including the previously-meta MORS and, with this build that FaZe Swagg has used to replicate the OG Intervention, the FJX Imperium. Here’s how Swagg builds his best FJX Imperium class to bring back the classic Intervention that many deem to be the greatest sniper in Call of Duty history: Muzzle: Sonic Suppressor L – Laser: VLK LZR 7mw – Stock: FJX Lux-7 Stock – Ammunition: .408 High Velocity – Rear Grip: Skull-40 – As Swagg explains in the video, you can also swap out the High Velocity Ammunition for Explosive ammo if that’s your preference. This would increase your damage range, which could be super helpful if you like taking pop-shots from distance. While the FJX Imperium won’t be a one-shot headshot to fully-plated opponents, the damage drop-off is far shorter than with the Kar98 both at range and up close, meaning a more consistent damage number no matter where you hit your opponent. At longer ranges, you won’t do enough damage to the chest or neck to kill the opponent, but the lowest amount of damage you can do is 134 according to TrueGameData, which is at least enough to rip off most of an opponent’s plates if they have three on. As always, it’s worth noting that you should give this class a try just to see how it performs, and make adjustments based on your own style of play and what feels most comfortable for you.
