Modern Warfare 2 players bash “farce” RICOCHET as cheaters take over ActivisionModern Warfare 2 players have labeled RICOCHET anti-cheat a “farce” and claimed the annual installment is suffering from a dramatic uptick in the number of hackers as it approaches Season One Reloaded. While the first Warzone saw its life cycle continually marred by cheaters and hackers, the battle royale sequel has got off to a much smoother start in that regard. RICOCHET, the anti-cheat system developed back in 2021, has been present since launch and reportedly upgraded considerably. However, with Season One Reloaded approaching, players are reporting a “flood” of new cheaters. MW2 cheaters on the rise ahead of Season One Reloaded One player drew attention to the problems in a December 8 Reddit post, describing RICOCHET as a “farce”. Attached was a video of a player cheating on Shoot House, tracking enemies through the wall and lasering them as a result. Similar reports came from fellow fans, with one saying the game’s multiplayer has become “flooded” with “blatant” cheats. Others pointed out that an anti-cheat system does not necessarily eradicate cheaters entirely. That would be impossible and the more likely outcome is just a reduction in their prevalence. One said: “Why do people think that because there is anti-cheat there won’t be cheaters at all? It’s a cat-and-mouse game where there will never be a winner. New cheats come out to bypass RICOCHET, then they get banned.” Regardless, players are hoping for positive updates on the game’s hacking situation. Activision revealed back in October that over 60,000 accounts were banned just as a result of the multiplayer beta, with the total figure now probably much higher.

Modern Warfare 2 players bash ‘clueless’ devs over Season Two level cap – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 players bash ‘clueless’ devs over Season Two level cap ActivisionModern Warfare 2 players have once more hit out at the devs, bashing them as “clueless” over the Season Two level cap. Modern Warfare 2‘s second season is almost upon us, with a ton of new content for players just around the corner. Season Two will see new maps, including Valderas Museum — first featured in the game’s beta — and the release of the fan-favorite classic Dome from MW3. However, the community has taken issue with the multiplayer’s level cap increase, with players slamming the developers ahead of Season Two’s release. MW2 players bash Season Two level cap While it was initially announced that the max level would be increased to 500, the devs have backtracked to capping it at 450 instead. The community has since shown their frustrations, hitting out at Infinity Ward and bashing them as “clueless” in a February 11 Reddit thread. “90% of lobbies are going to be max rank after a month, again,” a fan wrote. “Daily challenges are going to be useless for another two months, again. This studio has no clue.” “They have no clue bc they simply do not care,” another added. “They are drip feeding levels at this point. Unbelievable,” said one. “Remember when you could buy mw2 and grind your way to 10th prestige with your friends from day 1 and not be dripfed prestige levels of all things?” another fan reminisced. Some fans even believe the devs are intentionally trying to kill the hype for the series. “They literally have to be intentionally trying to kill any hype for COD, right?” Season Two was set to go live on February 1, before being pushed back to February 15. It’s likely that Season Two Reloaded will see additional levels released, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

Modern Warfare 2 players are reportedly being banned for “no reason” – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 players are reportedly being banned for “no reason” Infinity WardModern Warfare 2’s launch has been filled with a fair share of technical woes. In the latest development, several players are reporting that their accounts have been wrongfully banned. With the arrival of the latest entry in the Call of Duty series, players have been rushing to experience its multiplayer offering. However, Modern Warfare 2 has already had its fair share of complaints. From parties crashing and keeping people from playing together, to a user interface that has been called “the worst UI in CoD history“, MW2’s release has been shrouded in controversy. But, according to several reports, there are players who can’t access the game at all. Bans have been delivered to players who claim they weren’t doing anything ban-worthy, with enough reports to raise some questions about whether or not all they are valid. Modern Warfare 2 players reporting false bans Jake Lucky put out a tweet asking his twitter audience whether or not they’ve had any issues with false bans and received a torrent of responses. So much so that he’s had to ask for people to stop DMing him due to the sheer amount of players reaching out for help rescinding their bans. False bans are a tricky thing to diagnose due to the amount of real cheaters running around. Efforts to upgrade RICOCHET, Call of Duty’s anti-cheat solution, have aided in the effort of cleaning up Warzone before Modern Warfare 2’s release, and the same anti-cheat has been implemented into the latest CoD, with thousands of cheaters getting banned before MW2 even launched. Twitter isn’t the only place that has had reports of false bans, either. Players have taken to reddit as well, even as far back as the MW2 beta. A reddit post reads, “I’m kind of afraid to even play the game now with how common these false bans are. Left and right I see people getting banned for no reason.” Many players have appealed these bans, posting about it on reddit or twitter, and haven’t had any luck with getting their accounts back. At the time of writing, Infinity Ward have yet to address claims related to falsely banned accounts.

Modern Warfare 2 players are loving the new Prestige system already – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 players are loving the new Prestige system already ActivisionModern Warfare 2 reintroduces a persistent Prestige system, and while not a one-for-one replica of classic CoD games, fans are excited. Activision announced a Season 1 roadmap for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 on November 9. Shoot House and Shipment make a triumphant return, perfect for players grinding weapon camos, and Infinity Ward addressed community concerns. Modern Warfare 2019 went against the grain, adding a Seasonal Prestige system. When players reached the max level of 55, they could then progress up to level 155. However, it came with a caveat as each new season, levels reset to 55. Infinity Ward’s decision did not resonate well with users, so a more familiar Prestige system is returning for MW2. How does MW2’s Prestige system work? Infinity Ward combines elements from MW2019’s Prestige system with shades of the past. In MW2, Reaching Rank 56 unlocks Prestige 1. Season 1 includes four Prestige Ranks, each unlocking new rewards. Prestige 2: Unlocked at Rank 100 – Prestige 3: Unlocked at Rank 150 – Prestige 4: Unlocked at Rank 200 – Prestige 5: Unlocked at Rank 250 and is the level cap until the end of Season 01. – Ranks do not reset after Season 1, but players cannot advance past Rank 250 until Season 2 begins. MW2 players praise new Prestige system A Reddit user claimed Modern Warfare 2’s new prestige system is a “big win.” One player responded, “I like this as well. I hated taking a few months off and being so far behind. Seasonal Prestige fixed that. I won’t be far behind with the cap of 5 prestige per season and can catch up later.” A second user added, “We can finally actually see someone’s experience in the game just by the rank. So good!” MW2’s new Prestige system begins on November 16, alongside the launch of Season 1.

Modern Warfare 2 players are in disbelief with one map’s layout – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 players are in disbelief with one map’s layout Call of DutyThree-lane maps are the standard layout for Call of Duty maps, so Modern Warfare 2 players couldn’t believe their eyes after loading into a one-lane map. Modern Warfare 2019 received harsh criticism for its map layout. Deviating from other series entries, the game emphasized verticality and the use of doors. Modern Warfare 2 promised a return to Call of Duty’s roots, offering traditional map designs. Unfortunately, MW2’s 6v6 map count took a hit, as Infinity Ward mysteriously removed Valderas Museum after appearing in the Beta. On the bright side, Infinity Ward teased two classic maps coming during Season 1. Some players feel deceived by the Santa Sena Border Crossing map, which is anything but a traditional CoD map. MW2 players bash Santa Sena Border Crossing design Reddit user osrs_dayz_simp shared a screenshot of the Santa Sena Border Crossing 6v6 map, saying, “You cannot be serious that this is one of the 11 base maps.” Based on the image below, Santa Sena Border is unlike anything we have ever seen from a CoD map. CcharlieINTEL painted a clearer picture for fans, giving a walkthrough. The map is a long stretch of highway littered with cars for cover. So how does this differ from a familiar CoD environment? Three-lane maps, as they are referred to, feature three distinct lanes from your spawn to the opposing spawn. Fans like this style because it breaks up games from becoming one giant disorganized free-for-all and provides a nice game flow. So as you can probably guess, they weren’t too pleased with this design. One player responded, “All of the greatest and most replayable maps in CoD history are three-lane squares, so naturally, this is what IW puts into their game.” A second player added, “A lot of people on here claim 3 lanes is boring, but it became the standard for a reason. It just f**king works.” Hopefully, the nine other Modern Warfare 2 offerings resonate better with community members.

Modern Warfare 2 players are feral for new “well-equipped” Operator skin – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 players are feral for new “well-equipped” Operator skin ActivisionModern Warfare 2’s newest Tracer Pack bundle contains the Foxy skin for fan-favorite Operator Hutch, and fans have gone feral over the “well-equipped” design. Hutch has been at the center of the community’s collective discussion on February 26 thanks to the release of the Red Fox Tracer Pack. The skin adorns the big man with some fox ears, a striped shirt, and a few other Vulpine-themed cosmetics. The skin’s description reads “Hutch proves cosplay has a place on the battlefield,” and while that’s innocent enough, fans have all honed into something a little less PG. There is quite a noticeable impression around the skin’s nether region and the internet is having a field day over the implication. Modern Warfare 2community reacts to “well-equipped” MW2 Operator There have been multiple threads of people in disbelief over this addition to the game, with some praising the bold decision to include it, and others mortified to even see it on their screens. Call of Duty streamer BritBratTV was one of many who grabbed a picture of the Operator’s preview screen, and she couldn’t hold back from pointing out how obvious it is. “I mean he is PACKIN’ HEAT,” she joked. The Modern Warfare 2 Reddit community took things to the next level, with many making comments that are best left inside the thread itself and not on this page. One of the more tame comments called Hutch “well-equipped” and labeled the Foxy attire “a reactive skin” – implying that it changes as players go on higher killstreaks with it. While it was fun and silly for some, others were slightly disturbed by the addition, with one player adding that “they no longer know what to expect” from the community. This one is certainly a wildcard addition to both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, but unless Infinity Ward makes some last-second changes, it’s likely that fans will see plenty of Hutch in their lobbies going forward as players embrace the meme around him.

Modern Warfare 2 players are desperate for meta LMG to finally return – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 players are desperate for meta LMG to finally return ActivisionWith the absence of a new light machine gun since MW2’s launch, Modern Warfare 2 players have grown desperate for an LMG to be added and it’s a once meta-defining weapon they want back most. LMGs have played a big part in Call of Duty ever since the first entry. They offer players the opportunity to live out the fantasy of firing a full 100 rounds and taking out an entire enemy team without having to reload. However, in MW2 and Warzone 2 it is the only weapon type that hasn’t received a new gun since launch. There’s been four assault rifles, two submachine guns, two shotguns, two marksman rifles, two snipers, two handguns, two melee weapons, and a battle rifle but no LMG. The lack of a new light machine gun hasn’t gone unnoticed and now the CoD community is calling for one to arrive, and ideally a specific one. MW2 players want Bruen LMG to make a comeback When discussing which LMG they would like to see make a comeback, users on the Modern Warfare 2 subreddit named the M240B and M249 SAW. The post reads “There has not been a single LMG added since launch,” with a humorous image attached mocking the MX Guardian shotgun‘s arrival in Season 4 Reloaded. CoD fans jumped on the opportunity to show their support responding “Bruen meta was the best meta,” and “The M240B would be sick.” Be it either the M240B or the M249 SAW that has featured in several previous Modern Warfare games, it seems fans would be happy with either. The last appearance these guns made in a Call of Duty game was Modern Warfare (2019) when it was added as the Bruen MK9 in Season 3. The SAW wasn’t the only light machine gun that players asked for though. Some other popular suggestions included the PKM, MCX Spear, and M60E4. Interestingly, the PKM made an extremely brief appearance in the Season 3 Multiplayer Trailer for Modern Warfare 2. However, it was not added in that season and has not come since.

Modern Warfare 2 players are convinced best Gunfight maps already exist – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 players are convinced best Gunfight maps already exist Infinity WardModern Warfare 2 fans have taken to designing their own maps for the Gunfight mode as demand for the feature grows. When Modern Warfare 2 released back in November 2022, it brought many fan-favorite modes back from the original game. Unfortunately, the developers didn’t include every feature in future installments. For example, despite its popularity in the original Modern Warfare, Gunfight mode was left behind. The popular feature was a huge hit among players because it offered 2v2 style gameplay on very small maps. With recent information that Gunfight will return to Modern Warfare 2, some fans have taken to designing their own “what-if” mockup maps. They are visualizing what Gunfight mode could look like as they eagerly await its return. Modern Warfare 2 fan creates their own Gunfight maps With no real timeframe currently available for Gunfight return, players have taken to clipping small sections of existing maps to get a sense of what could come in the future. In a recent Reddit post, one Modern Warfare 2 fan took it upon themselves to try and design what some Gunfight maps could look like. The creator of the post shows four maps they took small pieces from to show how Gunfight mode could be implemented. Many Modern Warfare 2 fans replied in the comments offering their suggestions and opinions about the missing mode: One said, “Wow dude really said ‘Fine, I’ll do it myself’ because Infinity Ward won’t.” Another voiced how much they simply want the mode back in, “I want Gunfight so badly at this point just give me the MW 2019 maps Pine, Hill, Stack, I don’t care just let me play it.” Not every reply was in favor of the new maps, as one user said, “I don’t want areas for gunfight I want NEW maps not cutouts from old maps.” Some fans would likely be fine with anything as long as the mode gets into the game, while others don’t appear to want quick throw-ins of sectioned maps that already exist. However, with more leaks saying Gunfight won’t be coming in Season 2, fans of the mode may be waiting for a while longer to see it in Modern Warfare 2.

Modern Warfare 2 players are buying this Burger King skin for outrageous prices online – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 players are buying this Burger King skin for outrageous prices online ActivisionAfter Activision released an exclusive Modern Warfare 2 Burger King partnership for the Burger Town Operator skin, players outside of eligible locations are splashing up to $40 to buy the cosmetic on eBay. Modern Warfare 2 has launched with a number of Operator skins to equip, most of which are unlocked through multiplayer or campaign objectives. However, there are a number that are obtained in different ways, such as the Soap and Ghost Operators that are locked behind the MW2 Vault Edition. Shortly before the launch of MW2, Activision partnered with fast-food giant Burger King to release a Burger Town Operator skin, taking advantage of one of the series’ longest-running easter eggs. The exclusive cosmetic is earned by purchasing a Modern Warfare 2 meal and redeeming a code, but the offer is only available in 40 countries, excluding the US. As you’d expect, dedicated MW2 players haven’t let this stop them, and are paying a premium to get hold of the skin. Although the Modern Warfare 2 Burger Town Operator codes are only given out in certain countries, they aren’t locked to a specific region and can be redeemed anywhere. Savvy players quickly took advantage of this, as listings began to appear on eBay starting at around $15 and reaching as high as $40, which is more than double the cost of the meal itself. If you’re wondering why players are willing to drop so much money on a single skin, which is essentially just a man in a t-shirt donning the Burger Town logo, it’s actually a well-known easter egg within the CoD series. The fictional fast-food chain first appeared in multiple missions of the 2009 Modern Warfare 2’s campaign and made up a portion of the iconic Terminal multiplayer map. It has since appeared in many CoD installments, from Modern Warfare 3 to Advanced Warfare’s Extraction mode. It even showed up across Verdansk, the original Warzone map that was released following the 2019 reboot of the MW series. With all this in mind, it’s not hard to see why the most dedicated Modern Warfare 2 players want to represent Burger Town in Infinity Ward’s latest game. Although, we recommend spending the cash on Whoppers instead, unless you really must have the Modern Warfare 2 Burger King skin.

Modern Warfare 2 players accuse devs of ignoring multiplayer to focus on Warzone 2 – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 players accuse devs of ignoring multiplayer to focus on Warzone 2 ActivisionModern Warfare 2 players are growing increasingly annoyed with the developers who are rolling out and announcing tons of updates for Warzone 2, but none for the multiplayer mode of the $70 game. Infinity Ward just announced that more details about season 2 of Warzone 2 are coming soon with exciting updates to looting, gulag, and the load-outs. But alongside players cheering for the long-awaited changes to Warzone 2, players of the multiplayer mode of Modern Warfare 2 started voicing their concerns about how much the devs favor the battle royale. This sentiment seemingly has gathered some support as a post pointing this out has been trending on the Reddit of Modern Warfare 2. Modern Warfare 2 players slam developers for focusing on Warzone 2 As noted on the game’s subreddit, some playlists and modes have been in disarray for months with no fix in sight, while no brand-new maps have been announced for the multiplayer. “They don’t care about MP. Ground War is in an awful state for months,” reads one of the most upvoted comments under the aforementioned post. One user had an even more cynical take on the whole situation: “Store bundles is their main priority not Warzone.” Others were quick to point out a clear bias in such sentiments. “Did you miss the part where they talked about new MP maps, modes, and weapons,” comments one user, before adding: “Plus it’s different studios working on each game so one doesn’t detract from the other.” A similar sentiment can be interpreted from a couple of other posts that are currently trending on the same subreddit. One user turned this situation into quite a meme, calling Warzone “the favorite son” of the devs. The only thing that’s for certain is that Infinity Ward, Raven Software, and all of Activision are in a tricky spot, essentially developing a couple of different experiences at once, between Tarkov-inspired DMZ, the Battle Royale mode, and the classic Multiplayer experience.

Modern Warfare 2 player stunned as he’s killed by a door in tournament finals – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 player stunned as he’s killed by a door in tournament finals ActivisionA team of aspiring Call of Duty pros were left stunned after a door killed their teammate in the finals of a Modern Warfare 2 tournament. Modern Warfare 2 has not been without its weird bugs and glitches since launching towards the end of 2022, whether it be in multiplayer, DMZ, or Warzone 2. Normally, though, you can forgive it when it’s happening in public matches. While it can be incredibly frustrating dying to bugs, you know you can spawn up again and just play the game out as if nothing happened. You don’t get quite as much grace during a tournament, though, especially during a final, where an annoying glitch can be the difference between winning the tournament and earning money or dropping out with nothing to celebrate. That’s almost exactly what happened in this amateur ColosseumCrew tournament, as the two teams took to El Asilo for Search & Destroy, the second map of the Best of 5 series. As ItzAdam defended the door at A bomb, looking to prevent his opponents from planting there, AnthoJr blasted the door open, sending Adam flying across the room to his death, in a move the commentators couldn’t even try to explain. While this was obviously a huge loss in the round, and one that could have easily tilted Adam and his teammates, they did end up winning the tournament despite losing the S&D. With some huge changes planned for the launch of Season 2 — albeit predominantly for Warzone 2 and not multiplayer — this will definitely be something that the devs will want to get a hold of, especially to stop it from happening in Call of Duty League matches or ruining the fun of casual players.

Modern Warfare 2 player spots “almost identical” paid weapon skins – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 player spots “almost identical” paid weapon skins Modern Warfare 2A Modern Warfare 2 player spotted two “almost identical” sniper rifle skins in separate bundles, both of which are only available for purchase with in-game currency. The last few Call of Duty entries have introduced some extravagant skins. From the Attack on Titan collab to Snoop Dogg, and even some of the world’s most iconic footballers being put in MW2, Operator skins have a ton of variety and iconic crossovers. Weapon skins got similar treatment in both Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard, with weapons having themed skins with a variety of different themes from anime to dragons. Modern Warfare 2’s skins have gone in the opposite direction, and some players are calling out two sniper skins for being “almost identical”. “Almost identical” weapon skins spotted in Modern Warfare 2 Stylistically, Modern Warfare 2 is definitely more on the side of mil-sim with its skins than the colorful and bombastic direction Vanguard and Cold War took, although some fun skins have been introduced with the Klaus bundle. In two separate weapon bundles, sniper skins have been spotted that are “almost identical” according to a reddit post. While the original poster clarified multiple times that they like these weapon skins, the reddit post sparked an argument amongst CoD players as to whether or not this is a good thing. On one hand, players who want a Ghillie-style sniper can get that look for two of their rifles. On the other, these are paid skins that look strikingly similar. “‘STOP GIVING US ANIME SKINS WE WANT MIL SIM ONLY’ ‘THESE SKINS LOOK TOO SIMILAR GIVE US VARIETY’ can’t win with this playerbase lmao” was one of the top comments on the post. The CoD community is divided on this issue, with just as many players arguing that bright pink anime skins are too much as there are players arguing somewhat realistic military skins are boring.

Modern Warfare 2 player shows off secret locations on every map – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 player shows off secret locations on every map ActivisionA Modern Warfare 2 streamer has hunted down secret spots on nearly every map in the game and is showing players how to take advantage of them. Modern Warfare 2’s maps are filled with little places where clever players can get a leg up on the competition, and there aren’t many people better at finding them than Varics. They’re responsible for sharing the Embassy glitch that allows players to dive through a wall and right on through to the other side, but this time we’re focusing on some more easily accessible locations that are hidden throughout the game. Modern Warfare 2 TikToker shows off secret hiding spots Varics’ TikTok page is full of spots like this one that also happens to be on Embassy. Each video is dedicated to showing off how to reach the place you’re trying to go, and then typically a quick look at how to use it effectively. This time all it takes is a strafe jump from the top of the tennis court building onto the fence behind it. From there, players only have to make a short run to get a ridiculously good vantage point over the entire B bombsite area. This is particularly good since B is the more popular option of the two, and players are likely to push there multiple times a game, and unless they’ve done their homework, they’re not likely to check this corner. Some other spots range from nifty but not so useful to downright mindblowing, like climbing onto the kitchen ceiling in Breenbergh Hotel. Most of these spots will take a bit of practice before you can pull them off consistently, but mastering them could be a game changer.

Modern Warfare 2 player reveals simple counter for Killstreaks – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 player reveals simple counter for Killstreaks ActivisionSpawning and repeatedly dying to aerial support Killstreaks is a nightmare, but a Modern Warfare 2 player unearthed an easy counter. Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer can be an unforgiving experience. Every player can recall at least one memory of getting spawn trapped by the opposing team and endlessly dying to a Gunship, Overwatch Helo, or Chopper Gunner. The harsh reality is nobody wants to equip an anti-air secondary and trying to shoot down the Killstreak manually usually ends in disaster. Unbeknownst to most players, one of MW2’s Killstreaks is a perfect counter to aerial support, and most players didn’t even consider it an option. A Modern Warfare 2 player showcased why most players use the Cruise Missile wrong in multiplayer matches. Modern Warfare 2 player discovers actual use for Cruise Missiles A Modern Warfare 2 player posted a video on Reddit of how to destroy a Gunship easily. They used a Cruise Missile Killstreak, and instead of diving it straight into the ground, they cleverly shot it back into the air and took down a Gunship in one fell swoop. The Cruise Missile only requires six kills of 750 points, which most players can obtain. In comparison, a Gunship requires 12 kills or 1500 points and was taken down effortlessly. One player responded, “I would be so pissed if I had that Gunship, but I would be so happy if I were your teammate.” Cruise Missiles work on other killstreaks, as one player tested it out on a VTOL and Chopper Gunner. However, not every community member believed it was the best use of a Cruise Missile. A second user argued, “don’t waste a Cruise Missile on one of those when you can shoot it down with a SO-14 with incendiary rounds in three seconds.” The player who posted the clip clapped back, “if you have a missile ready, you don’t need to die to switch to the SO or RAAL and then die again to switch back to your favorite weapon.” Whatever you decide to do, there are plenty of ways to take down those pesky aerial support Killstreaks.

Modern Warfare 2 player reveals outstanding inflatable decoy trick – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 player reveals outstanding inflatable decoy trick ActivisionA Modern Warfare 2 player discovered the perfect use for an inflatable decoy, which works like a charm in multiplayer and Warzone. Modern Warfare 2’s introduction of the drill charge and inflatable decoy provided players with new tools for engaging in gunfights. Players praised the drill charge as CoD’s “best addition” in years but couldn’t replicate the same initial success with the inflatable decoy. Using a drill charge doesn’t require a lot of finesse. Players can throw the lethal at a wall and kill unsuspecting enemies hiding behind. Using an inflatable decoy requires more strategy and situational awareness, and we have already seen plenty of disastrous blunders. Finally, an MW2 player found the perfect use for inflatable decoys after months of trial and error. Sniper rifle users have struggled to find success, but this trick could help give them a much-needed leg up. Modern Warfare 2 community lauds inflatable decoy trick The inflatable decoy is a field upgrade that deploys a dummy soldier when activated. It can be used to fake and distract enemies if used correctly. An MW2 player shared “a little lesson in trickery” using an inflatable decoy. Deploying the bait forced the enemy to fire at the dummy, opening a perfect window of opportunity for an easy snipe. One player responded, “for all this game’s problems, some of the new equipment is awesome. It does a lot wrong, but my god, it does a lot right.” A second community member added, “I can’t believe I never thought of that.” Not only do inflatable decoys serve as a helpful distraction, but if deployed right under an enemy, it kills them. As the game evolves, players will find more creative and clever uses for the handy decoy.

Modern Warfare 2 player reveals easy XP farming method – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 player reveals easy XP farming method Call of DutyThere is a shortcut if you don’t have time to pour countless hours into unlocking everything in Modern Warfare 2. Modern Warfare 2 features 55 Military Ranks, each level offering a new weapon platform, loadout item, or Spec Ops kit. 51 base weapons and 33 unique weapon platforms fill out a robust weapon offering from MW2. Traditionally items in CoD were unlocked by reaching a max level. Infinity Ward flipped the script, requiring players to level up individual weapons to earn new guns. Players blasted MW2’s seasonal prestige system, and the complicated weapon unlock process. Fortunately, a simple trick involving a suppression mine and a tank turret drastically speeds up the leveling-up process. How to get easy XP in Modern Warfare 2 The suppression mine is a new Field Upgrade introduced in MW2. It emits a constant sound wave that disrupts an enemy’s vision and slows their movement. Players can unlock the required Field Upgrade at Miltary Rank 24. Reddit user IKcatcher shared a video, earning well over 4,000 XP instantaneously. They didn’t provide video evidence, so we will have to take their word for it, but all you need to do is put a suppression mine on a tank turret. The Clever MW2 player stated, “If the game doesn’t want to be generous with weapon XP, I’m going to look for easier options.” Placing the suppression mine on a tank turret awards free XP enemy suppression points as the tank approaches enemies. One user responded, “I’m sure this will be patched faster than anything else in the game.” A second player added, “Hoping they don’t “patch” by just turning off all XP that you earn from non-gun kills (captures, hardpoint, etc.), or that would be fu**ed.” Make sure to try this method out before the developers patch it, and make sure to check out or guide on other easy ways to earn experience points.

Modern Warfare 2 player discovers scope with “built-in flash bang” – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 player discovers scope with “built-in flash bang” ActivisionThe Raptor-FVM40 scope has one listed con, which unintentionally serves as an advantage. Modern Warfare 2 players slammed the developers over “blinding” sniper scope glint. The feature is intended to hinder snipers, revealing their location when aiming down sight. However, MW2’s abnormally large flashes of light actually make it more challenging to pinpoint an enemy’s location. Choosing the right scope to use usually comes down to personal preference, but unexpected advantages change the equation. For example, JGOD unearthed the SZ Holtherm optic, which provides holographic vision immune to the Cold Blooded perk. This time around, the Raptor-FVM40 scope comes with a listed con of “very large sniper glint.” In reality, the glint comes in handy for masking your location while aiming down sight. Modern Warfare 2 player unearths “massive scope buff” A Modern Warfare 2 player claims they “found the scope that gives you a flashbang.” The Raptor-FVM40 gives users a bullet drop indicator, 13x magnification, and increased aim down sight with the lone downside of a very large sniper glint. A viral clip surfaced showcasing the scope’s power. In other FPS games, you can usually fire directly at a sniper glint and get the kill. The Raptor’s glare is so large, it creates a larger margin for error for the player attempting to fire back. One user responded, “The biggest lens flare is actually a massive buff to the shooter.” A second player added about the large glint, “makes it so annoying to counter-snipe someone who has been sitting there. I can’t believe they okayed this decision.” Battlefield utilizes sniper glints, and the design choice makes sense because the game features large-scale maps. It’s easier to miss a sniper in a large environment, so the split-second glare could save your life. For a much smaller game like 6v6 Modern Warfare 2, sniper glints act more as a flash in some instances than a way to locate sniper users. “I feel like they made these scopes only with Warzone in mind. Obviously, this would be a disadvantage on a massive map sniping at the range or engaging a squad/player from distance. It reveals your location. However, it becomes an advantage at anything > If you are still grinding camos for sniper or marksman rifles, give this scope a try for instant results.

Modern Warfare 2 player demoralizes enemy with “brilliant” final kill cam – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 player demoralizes enemy with “brilliant” final kill cam ActivisionModern Warfare 2 final kill cams inspire creativity, and one player took that to a new level with the help of a proximity mine. Most players would be lying if they denied attempting a flashy final kill cam in a Call of Duty game. Whether it be a no-scope sniper shot or a cross-map tomahawk kill, the feature has been an integral thread of the franchise’s fabric. Of course, the developers only made it more appealing to attempt the impossible when they added the tracking system for final replays. This update added a lock-on feature, tracking the trajectory of throwable items, killstreaks, and even rocket launcher shots. One player utilized this innovation to pull off an extremely satisfying kill during a Modern Warfare 2 match. Modern Warfare 2 players stunned by hilarious final kill cam A Modern Warfare 2 player posted a clip on Reddit, joking, “a kill-cam that shows off my 0.3 KD and 300 IQ all at once.” The player used a proximity mine to take out an enemy after they revived themselves using the Last Stand perk. Adding insult to injury, they flew across the screen after getting blown up by the mine. Community members criticized the devs for adding the controversial Last Stand perk, so players supported the disrespectful play wholeheartedly. Commenters joined in on the fun. “This was hilarious. Something about the mine launching him upwards and the game suddenly ending made me chuckle.” A second player added, “this proves higher KD doesn’t mean higher IQ and vice versa.” Others relished in a Last Stand user’s suffering. “whenever I down a Last Stand user, I like to torture them a little bit.” The perk allows players to revive themselves after getting killed in multiplayer. Community members have complained about essentially having to kill an enemy twice, but maybe this will inspire them to have some fun with their downed opponents.

Modern Warfare 2 player comes up with perfect Warzone 2 UI overhaul – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 player comes up with perfect Warzone 2 UI overhaul Activision/Harrison Makes ThingsOne of the most consistent complaints Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 players have had with the game is the UI (user interface) — but one player might have come up with the perfect alternative. Many CoD players have found the Warzone 2.0 UI to be confusing at times, not easy to navigate between different game modes, and believe that it could be more simple, like the original Warzone 1 interface. It requires navigating through several menus in a fashion more representative of a streaming service than a video game — which makes sense, given people quickly discovered that a number of Hulu designers had joined Activision. While there were hopes that a UI overhaul would come — and some leaks suggested it was in the works — it currently still remains very similar to the look that was present in the beta. After many complaints, however, this player may have come up with the perfect MW2 UI redesign that makes it more fluid, understandable, and better in line with the Warzone 1 experience. As you can see below, Harrison Makes Things made playlists visible on one screen, easy to scroll through, and done similar for the loadout page too. “My design philosophy throughout the entire project was keeping the feel and utilizing the design assets of what we currently have, but making those assets more intuitive and accessible,” Harrison said in a Reddit comment, and it’s fair to say much of the respondents agree that it’s a natural step up from what is currently in the game. “That vertical create a class is legitimately upsetting because it’s exactly what we should have,” said one comment, while another added that “This is ten times better than what we have right now.” Whether a big UI overhaul does come to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 remains to be seen but, based on the popularity of this post and others like it, it’s definitely something players would love to see.

Modern Warfare 2 player bewildered after seemingly getting 53 years of Double XP – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 player bewildered after seemingly getting 53 years of Double XP ActivisionA Modern Warfare 2 player was left bewildered after they seemingly received 53 years worth of Double XP, only to reveal it was all a big mistake. Grinding for XP is probably one of the most important things to do in Modern Warfare 2. Or at least it is important if your goal is to unlock new weapons or to flex your high level. And a great way to make your leveling more efficient is through Double XP tokens. Gained through either the Battle Pass or Double XP events, players can use it to gain double the XP they’d normally get for a period of time, as the name implies. However, a player was left bewildered when they found themselves with more than half a century’s worth of Double XP. A Reddit user, Bravo-Warpig, posted on the Modern Warfare 2 subreddit with their insane number of days to use a Double XP bonus. In the photo, they show they had a total of 19,346 days left for their Double Xp, which totals up to 53 years. Naturally, it left not only them, but other players too surprised by the insane amount of days. “Ummm what?” was the simple caption to the post. Others also jokingly responded, “damn Sony exclusive benefits are getting out of hand.” As many players in the comments were more interested that PlayStation users get an additional 25%more XP, which was the platform Bravo-Warpig was playing on. Others of course just told them to not “snitch” on themselves, and just accept it. “Might as well take advantage of it” wrote one user. It was only well after the post gained a lot of traction that Bravo-Warpig revealed it was all just a visual bug, and it returned to normal right after his next game. Saying they wouldn’t have posted it if they thought it was a genuine exploit. So don’t get your hopes up just yet thinking the same could happen to you. For the time being, no one out there really has 53 years worth of Double XP to get through.

Modern Warfare 2 ‘play again’ feature reignites disbanding lobby debate – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 ‘play again’ feature reignites disbanding lobby debate ActivisionSeason 5 Reloaded adds a play again feature to Modern Warfare 2 that makes community members question the need for disbanding lobbies. Sledgehammer Games recently unveiled the first batch of Modern Warfare 3 content. Next, at Gamescom 2023, we got our first look at gameplay and possibly even a sneak peek of the new Warzone map. Understandably, jumping back into a MW2 match with just a few months left in the game’s life cycle is tough. However, multiplayer fans get plenty of fresh content to sink their teeth into in Season 5 Reloaded. A new 6v6 map, three new weapons, and a new game mode highlight the new additions. Multiplayer also takes a page from Warzone’s book by adding a play again feature. The announcement sparked a mix of joy and outrage from community members. Modern Warfare 2 players unsatisfied with play again feature After a multiplayer match ends in MW2, the lobby disbands, and users load into a new match with a different set of players. Previously, classic COD titles kept lobbies together, which added an extra element of community building as players met new friends and rivals. COD Vanguard also used disbanding lobbies, and 100 Thieves co-owner Jack “CouRage” Dunlop argued: “I will never understand this change to Call of Duty multiplayer.” And then, during Modern Warfare 2’s beta, players complained about disbanding lobbies, and Infinity Ward responded: “We’ve heard a lot of you on disbanding lobbies. We’re working on a few tweaks to increase the chance of lobbies staying together and improving the UI when it happens.” It took months to see that feedback come to fruition, but Season 5 Reloaded introduces a play again feature to MW2 that allows people on the same team to play another game together. Community members questioned why the devs couldn’t add persistent lobbies instead. One player responded: “At this point, what is the point in even keeping lobby disbanding a thing?” A second user added: “Is it that hard to just make the lobbies not disband?” Others looked back fondly on the days of persistent lobbies. A third multiplayer fan argued: “Creating rivals in CoD lobbies is most of the fun.” What Sledgehammer Games has up its sleeve for multiplayer lobbies in Modern Warfare 3 remains to be seen.

Modern Warfare 2 overtakes Warzone Twitch viewership as multiplayer finally usurps battle royale – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 overtakes Warzone Twitch viewership as multiplayer finally usurps battle royale ActivisionModern Warfare 2 had a higher viewership in March 2023 than Warzone 2, the first time the regular multiplayer game has beaten the battle royale outside of launch month since Warzone first launched in March 2020. Since Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 launched, there has been much furor over Call of Duty, especially as players struggle to enjoy the new BR as much as they did Warzone 1. Issues with the movement mechanics, TTK, and more have been frequently highlighted, and players were first introduced to Al Mazrah, resulting in a declining player base and a considerable number of frustrated players, from both casuals to elite pros and streamers. With said streamers and pros now either leaving the game or heading back to Warzone 1 or other titles, Twitch viewership for the title has taken a hit — and now, the regular multiplayer game is looking to take over. In March 2023, Modern Warfare 2 reached 24,970,051 hours of watch time. Warzone, on the other hand, finished with 21,969,596 hours, almost a 3m difference, according to SullyGnome. This is the first time the mainline game has had a more successful viewership outside of launch month since Warzone came out three years ago, and you can see how consistently Warzone has stayed ahead of multiplayer, albeit with peaks during launch months for Cold War, Vanguard, and MW2. Call of Duty League leads MW2 viewership figures The biggest contributor to Modern Warfare 2’s success in March was Call of Duty League viewership. As was widely reported, Major 3 smashed viewership records for CoD esports, as the most-viewed event in CDL history. Both the Call of Duty Twitch channel and Scump with his watch parties were huge factors in this, earning around 3.4-3.8m hours watched each. There are a number of players who have long wanted to see multiplayer CoD back on top, and stats like these will definitely help feel like the game is on its way back after years of dominance from Warzone. Of course, any viewers watching Call of Duty is a success for the franchise overall, and it’ll be interesting to see if this trend continues into the coming months.

Modern Warfare 2 officially confirmed as 2022 CoD with logo reveal – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 officially confirmed as 2022 CoD with logo reveal ActivisionAfter months of speculation, the 2022 Call of Duty title has officially been announced as Modern Warfare 2, 13 years after the original Modern Warfare 2 release. While rumors and speculation have swirled about the upcoming CoD launch, there has not been any official confirmation from Activision or developers Infinity Ward themselves. As we start to approach the promotional months of the Call of Duty season, with devs and Activision readying their next product, there’s no trailer yet — but the iconic Modern Warfare 2 logo is officially coming back. On Thursday, April 28, the Infinity Ward and Call of Duty social media accounts posted the new Modern Warfare 2 logo, finally confirming the news CoD fans the world over had all been waiting for. This comes just days after they showed off the new game to the 2022 NFL Draft prospects, many of whom were eager to share how great the game looked on their own social accounts. “It was so realistic, it’s insane,” said projected first-round pick Ahmad ‘Sauce’ Gardner. “And on top of that, it’s a new Warzone 2 coming out with it.” It was so realistic, it’s insane🤣 And on top of that, it’s a new Warzone 2 coming out with it😉 https://t.co/awvsG8kyAy — SAUCE GARDNER (@iamSauceGardner) April 26, 2022 There was no Warzone 2 logo accompanying the Modern Warfare 2 one that was posted by the Call of Duty social channels, but a new free-to-play Warzone experience has been confirmed by Activision already. While there is no more information available on Modern Warfare 2 at the time of writing, you can check out our MW2 hub for all of the leaks or hints we’ve had about what the game could look like. The original Modern Warfare 2 was one of the most popular games in the franchise, if not the most popular. If the 2022 edition lives anywhere close to the hype, Call of Duty fans will have a lot to be excited about.

Modern Warfare 2’s no-face glitch startles players – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2’s no-face glitch startles players Activision BlizzardUpon returning to a lobby, one Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 user was startled to find their character affected by a no-face glitch. Like most AAA multiplayer games, a wide variety of bugs have plagued Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 since its launch. God mode, invisible wall, XP, and spawn glitches have all negatively impacted the game in one way or another. Sometimes, developers quickly unleash a hotfix to address these well-documented issues. In other instances, those very same patches end up doing more harm than good. Now Modern Warfare 2 players have started running into another strange error that desperately needs attention from developers. No-face glitch in Modern Warfare 2 lobby startles player Reddit user 604WeekendWarrior has shared a few screenshots of an image that startled them upon returning to the MW2 lobby. Instead of seeing their player character standing proudly in the menu screen, the user discovered their soldier posed without a face. It’s a glitch that harkens back to the infamous no-face bug in Assassin’s Creed Unity. In that case, the error was a PC-specific issue that stemmed from certain graphics cards. “Not gonna lie, this glitch startled me when I got back to the lobby,” the Redditor said about the images below: Suffice it to say, it’s not the prettiest sight to suddenly be met with under any circumstance. It’s easy to see why the player was so startled. “That’s terrifying,” one user wrote in response to the Reddit post. “Zombies confirmed,” someone else joked in the thread, poking fun at the bizarre graphical glitch. If and when this bug will receive a fix is anyone’s guess. For now, though, Modern Warfare 2 players may want to be on guard for potential jump scares related to faceless Call of Duty soldiers.

Modern Warfare 2 new equipment guide: Lethals and Tacticals explained – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 new equipment guide: Lethals and Tacticals explained ActivisionModern Warfare 2 is changing up the game when it comes to equipment so here’s the full breakdown on Lethals and Tacticals and how they work this time around. Modern Warfare 2 is only increasing in popularity and fans are diving deep into the new era of Call of Duty multiplayer. While there are many recognizable elements from past titles, this year’s game does bring a few surprises to the table as well. If you want to get ahead of the curve and start piecing the optimal loadout together for yourself, here’s everything you need to know about the Lethals and Tacticals to keep a leg up. Lethal Equipment in Modern Warfare 2 Many of the items found in the Lethal section will be familiar to longtime players, but there is a newcomer that might be a bit of a headscratcher at first. The Drill Charge is a new implement that players can throw at solid surfaces to force enemies hiding behind cover to either leave their spot or soak up some real damage. It goes deep into the surface and burns through the opposing side. Here’s the full list of Lethals and when you can unlock them: C4 – Claymore – Drill Charge – Frag Grenade – Molotov Cocktail – Proximity Mine – Sticky Grenade (Semtex) – Thermite – Throwing Knife – All of the other items work exactly as they have in previous games, albeit with an updated look. Tactical Equipment in Modern Warfare 2 The Tactical section also remains pretty similar to that of Modern Warfare (2019) with the exception of the Shock Stick. This EMP-like device will stick to whatever it’s thrown at while it destroys equipment, disables vehicles, and even dishes out an electrical charge to the opposition. Here are all the Tacticals in the game: Decoy Grenade – Flash Grenade – Gas Grenade – Heartbeat Sensor – Shock Stick – Smoke Grenade – Snapshot Grenade – Spotter Scope – Stim – Stun Grenade – That’s everything for now, but we’ll be sure to keep this page updated with the latest information if more equipment is revealed. Modern Warfare 2 mythbusters reveal single most amusing way to kill an enemy – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 mythbusters reveal single most amusing way to kill an enemy Activision / YouTube: DefendTheHouseResident Call of Duty mythbusters DefendTheHouse have revealed what’s perhaps the most amusing way to kill an enemy in Modern Warfare 2: With a fire extinguisher. There’s no denying the CoD series always gives plenty of hilarious options in which to take down your opposition. Whether it’s a brutal execution, a jaw-dropping no-scope, or even just lethal damage from a piece of tactical equipment, there’s often nothing sweeter than an embarrassing kill. It’s the ultimate form of punishment in any given release and this year’s Modern Warfare 2 is no different. As always, the game provides a number of unique opportunities to leave your opponents stumped and your whole squad laughing. However, prominent CoD mythbusters over at DefendTheHouse may have just uncovered the most hilarious method to dispatch of your foes in Modern Warfare 2. As it turns out, you can actually kill enemies with a fire extinguisher in the latest CoD title. When testing various myths in volume two of their Modern Warfare 2 series, the crew at the long-running DefendTheHouse YouTube channel looked to experiment with fire extinguishers. This fire safety equipment can only be found in certain spots on a handful of maps, but as they discovered, it’s more deadly than you might think. Simply by shooting at any given fire extinguisher, you can cause them to explode and deal “a lot of damage” to enemies in their vicinity. While it’s not quite lethal in itself, it’s plenty of damage to finish off a wounded target. The fire extinguisher myth is tested at the 11:04 mark below. As showcased in the video, with just a single pistol shot to the foot of an enemy followed by the fire extinguisher detonation, it’s more than enough to knock them dead. So if you happen to get an enemy tagged in prime position near one of these, you know exactly what to do. Damaging a fire extinguisher and causing their death with an inanimate object would just be the ultimate embarrassment. Execute it just right and you’re sure to have your enemies scratching their heads in no time trying to figure out what just happened.

Modern Warfare 2 mysteriously removes popular beta map at launch – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 mysteriously removes popular beta map at launch ActivisionModern Warfare 2 fans diving into their first multiplayer matches on Infinity Ward’s 2022 title have quickly realized that Valderas Museum is no longer in the game. Integral to any Call of Duty game are the multiplayer maps, with fans wanting replayable, fast-paced, and balanced environments to showcase their skills online. The recent MWII multiplayer Beta gave the fan base their first taste of Modern Warfare 2’s maps, with Valderas Museum, Farm 18, Mercado Las Almas, and Breenbergh Hotel all featuring. That paved the way for confirmation that eleven classic 6v6 multiplayer maps would be available at launch. However, now the full game has been released (depending on your location), fans have realized that the Valderas Museum environment is no longer in the full game. Valderas Museum map removed from MWII As a result, there are now only ten base 6v6 maps available for players who are in Modern Warfare 2. The Valderas Museum map took considerable inspiration from the Getty Center, a real-life museum in California. A reason for its removal has not surfaced, but it’s possible that its likeness to a real-life location has caused issues. Some fans were pleased with the news of its removal, claiming it was too large to feature as a 6v6 multiplayer map. There have already been some problems with the Crown Raceway multiplayer map from Modern Warfare 2. It was originally titled ‘Grand Prix’ and featured heavily in the multiplayer Beta marketing, only to be mysteriously absent when it dropped. It has since returned with a name change so, presumably, when any behind-the-scenes issues have been ironed out, Valderas Museum will return. For now though, players will have to enjoy the 10 multiplayer maps, with more classic environments chalked to come in the near future.

Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer reveal date leaked – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer reveal date leaked ActivisionThe reveal date for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer has been leaked and fans will be happy to learn that they won’t have long until they can check out the action. Modern Warfare 2 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated titles in CoD history with players waiting with bated breath for Activision to reveal the game’s multiplayer. Amid a series of leaks about new movement changes, returning game modes and more, insider Tom Henderson has revealed when the official details will go public. According to Henderson, the MW2 multiplayer revealed is planned for September, ahead of the official beta. Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer leaked As Henderson states, CoD games have a history of having their multiplayer reveals in September with Black Ops Cold War’s being September 9, 2021 while Vanguard’s was on September 7, 2021. That said, it’s not yet known how the multiplayer mode will be revealed and what Activision has planned, but it shouldn’t be long after that fans will get to try the game out themselves. Modern Warfare 2’s beta is slated to begin in mid-late September, according to Henderson’s sources. The game itself, however, will launch on October 28, 2022. Other key game components, such as ranked play, have been rumored to be added “shortly after” the game is released. In any case, expect to learn more about MW2 and its multiplayer in the weeks ahead as we gear up for the beta to begin and marketing ramps up significantly.

Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer won’t feature destruction like Vanguard – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer won’t feature destruction like Vanguard While Call of Duty: Vanguard’s multiplayer modes boasted environmental destruction, Modern Warfare 2 will not have this feature. The reactive environments in Vanguard’s multiplayer counted among its selling points. Thanks to the destructibility features, player behavior could dismantle materials such as glass, tile, and wood. High-caliber weapons could especially wreak havoc on a map’s environment, heightening the tactical nature of the experience. But while developer Sledgehammer Games applied these reactive elements to every combat arena, few players were impressed by the feature’s execution in-game. Those hoping to see Call of Duty’s destructive capabilities evolve in the upcoming multiplayer suite shouldn’t hold their breath. No destruction for Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer In a recent Q&A session with members of the press, relayed by VentureBeat, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 developers fielded questions about the title’s online modes. When asked about the potential return of destructible elements, Multiplayer Design Director Geoffrey Smith said they won’t feature in multiplayer modes. “We can’t really afford it on a large scale across the map,” he explained, adding that players can expect to see damage and wear without structural pieces actually coming apart. Co-Studio Head Patrick Kelly chimed in next, noting that the team did entertain the addition of destruction. However, fully reactive environments engendered challenges that made it “difficult to create a play space where you would call it an appropriate combat space.” Kelly continued, “If you can punch through walls, everything like that. At the other end of the spectrum, if you have more of a purely–I don’t want to call it just cosmetic, but where you can’t shoot holes through the walls, things like that, you also end up with the challenge of visibility. Now you have variable backdrops. You have to do other things in terms of room lighting and fill and all these other things where you’re artificially representing things and characters in the environment.” At the very least, the crew confirmed Modern Warfare 2’s single-player campaign will showcase full-scale ruination. Activision unveiled the sequel earlier this week, offering a glimpse at its multiplayer and single-player experiences. Not every piece of news was met with excitement, though. For instance, the Call of Duty community remains divided on Modern Warfare 2’s $70 price point.

Modern Warfare 2 maps already being torn apart as players discover “paper” thin walls – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 maps already being torn apart as players discover “paper” thin walls ActivisionJust days after Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer went live, players are already scrutinizing new maps and finding major flaws within, allowing them to shoot through walls from a great distance. It’s safe to say the launch of Modern Warfare 2 hasn’t quite gone off without a hitch. From missing features to broken mechanics and in some cases, new additions that have swiftly been disabled, it’s been a rocky introduction to the latest CoD. While players have had their fair share of issues with crashes, SBMM, and the controversial UI, map design has also been a major talking point. For some, the maps simply aren’t up to snuff. But for others, they’re completely broken in their current state. As they always do with new CoD titles, Team Summertime has started dissecting each map one spot at a time. In doing so this year, they’ve quickly uncovered some crucial flaws allowing bullets to fly right on through multiple walls. Venturing through the Breenbergh Hotel map, the trio of streamers soon noticed something out of the ordinary. Peaking towards the B-bomb site from a catwalk near the center of the map, Hitch was able to fire all the way across to the other side. “You literally just go up there and shoot through the wall. It’s literally paper,” he said after securing a kill without ever laying eyes on his enemy. Not only is this game-breaking for respawn modes, with anyone able to abuse this spot, but it could prove pivotal in S&D. With just the right bomb placement while planting the charge, players can easily defend the B-site thanks to this game-changing spot. Without even risking your life, you’re able to take out any unsuspecting foe trying to defuse the bomb and win the round. Making matters worse, Hitch then showcased another angle even further back, just above the A-site in fact, that still allowed his bullets to travel across. By checking the B-bomb from the other side of the map, he was able to shoot through half a dozen solid brick walls and still grab the kill. With multiple walls not working as intended on the hotel map alone, it’s entirely likely similar spots exist throughout the entire map pool. It’s only a matter of time before they surface so for now, it’s worth keeping in mind that you’re never truly safe, even behind a seemingly thick surface.

Modern Warfare 2 map Taraq is an absolute throwback to 20-year-old CoD 1 – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 map Taraq is an absolute throwback to 20-year-old CoD 1 ActivisionModern Warfare 2 players are convinced they have found a reference to Call of Duty 1 in the new MW2 Multiplayer maps list. Activision’s latest first-person shooter game, developed by Infinity Ward, launches on October 28 with 16 maps across general Multiplayer and Ground War. Included in the game’s battle royale mode – Warzone 2 – is a handful of returning maps, featuring Quarry, Highrise, Observatory, Showdown, and Terminal as points of interest. The list of new MW2 battlefields, however, has certainly caught the attention of many in the game’s community and fans are convinced one is inspired by an old Call of Duty title… None other than the original Call of Duty. MW2 players find CoD 1 reference in new maps list On the eve of the game’s release date, Reddit users found noticeable comparisons between Taraq and Neuville from Call of Duty 1. “The new map called ‘Tariq’ seems to be a remake of Neuville from Call of Duty 1,” a Redditor said. Many agreed with the point and believe it may be a redesign, which wouldn’t be completely out of the question as Infinity Ward also developed the 2003 title. One said: “It literally is [a remake]!” Another posted: “This is awesome.” A third user urged the dev team to make more maps based on previous games, especially the older installments in the series. They said: “More CoD1\2 maps, please. They’re too old, 90% of the player base wouldn’t recognize them anyway, so there won’t be any ‘why only remakes and not new maps’.” The connection between Taraq and Neuville has not been publicly announced, at the time of writing, leaving players to decide for themselves if this is really a throwback to one of the originals.

Modern Warfare 2 LMG loadout shreds in Warzone on controller – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 LMG loadout shreds in Warzone on controller ActivisionThis LMG build is an absolute demon in Call of Duty: Warzone, but is especially potent for controller players looking to break the meta and fry at long range. Since Modern Warfare 2 launched, Warzone has undergone several meta changes with various assault rifles, submachine guns, sniper rifles, and more with a variety of weapons making their way to the top of the chain. This means that at one point or another, most weapons have flirted with the top of the meta rankings, though they might not have necessarily been number one. This LMG could change that though at least for controller players, and fortunately it’s one that you may already be familiar with. Rapp-H fries in Warzone According to Warzone expert TrueGameData, the Rapp-H can be a real demon if you’re playing on controller. With the right blend of attachments, TGD claims this is perfect for long-range fights. Here’s the loadout he recommends: Muzzle: Sakin Tread-40 – Laser: FSS OLE-V Laser – Optic: Aim OP-V4 – Underbarrel: B052 Grip – Ammunition: 7.62 High Velocity – Timestamp 22:16 These attachments combine to help maximize firepower while keeping the weapon’s recoil control and aiming stability at a serviceable level which is absolutely essential when taking on long-range gunfights. As always, it’s well worth trying out this build and playing around with some of the attachments. After all, gun preference can be quite personal and what works for one player might not be as effective in some one else’s hands. That said, it’s a great base to work off of and should see you picking off opponents at a distance with ease in no time. If it turns out that this Rapp-H build isn’t for you, other experts are highlighting the M4 as Warzone’s best gun after the classic assault rifle received more buffs in Season 6.

Modern Warfare 2 likely coming to Steam as PC fans spot cover hint – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 likely coming to Steam as PC fans spot cover hint ActivisionCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) could mark the franchise’s return to PC on Steam as artwork for the highly-anticipated title has recently appeared on there. While many Call of Duty fans will immediately point to the iconic first-person shooter series being a mainly console franchise, that isn’t the case. Since 2003, CoD games have released on a number of platforms including PC and handheld versions. In recent years, though, the PC version has been locked behind the Battle.Net launcher alongside some of Activision Blizzard’s other popular titles rather than also being available through Steam. Over the years, fans have requested that the franchise make a return to the Valve-owned platform, just to give them another option. And with the release of the Modern Warfare 2 in sight, that could finally happen. On May 29, some eagle-eyed fans noted that the artwork for Modern Warfare 2 (2022) – which has the iconic skull mask of Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley covered in green and black – appeared on Steam. There is no listing for the game, so you can’t rush over to the Steam and pre-order the title just yet, but if you go to the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 page and scroll to the bottom, you will see the cover of the highly-anticipated game. If the series is to return to Steam, it would be the first Call of Duty title that has been available on the Valve-owned platform since Call of Duty: WWII and Modern Warfare: Remastered, which were both released in 2017. Though, there was DLC released for the aforementioned Black Ops 3 throughout 2018, they just weren’t a new game. Breaking: #ModernWarfare2 artwork has shown up on Steam, suggesting the franchise will return to Steam on PC Artwork located at the bottom of this page: https://t.co/ANHF6vgIHZ (via Reddit) pic.twitter.com/DoEPMzJriB — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) May 29, 2022 As noted, the new game does not appear as a new or upcoming release on Steam, and searching for Modern Warfare 2 – as of now – only returns results for the 2009 version. It remains to be seen as to when you’ll be able to get MW2 (2022) through Steam, but it is looking promising ahead of the October 28 drop.

Modern Warfare 2 leaks suggest slide canceling will depend on Beta feedback – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 leaks suggest slide canceling will depend on Beta feedback ActivisionFresh Modern Warfare 2 leaks suggest that the inclusion of slide canceling will depend on Beta feedback, with Infinity Ward eager to tailor the game in accordance with fan preference. Slide canceling has been a major topic of discussion in the Call of Duty community for some time now. While rookies of the series may not know the term, any player with a couple of CoD titles under their belt will likely be aware of the controversy that surrounds the movement mechanic. In short, slide canceling sees players manipulate the in-game Tactical Sprint mechanic to move as quickly as possible around the map. Instead of losing momentum after sliding, players are able to maintain maximum speed via slide canceling. It’s been a contentious mechanic for years, with some players arguing it is an exploit, but others claiming that it is there for players to use and so they are entitled to do so. Ahead of Modern Warfare 2, the debate shows no sign of stopping. Modern Warfare 2 slide canceling will allegedly rest on Beta feedback New leaks come by way of Metaphor, a reputable insider who has leaked information on Warzone 2 and other CoD titles in the past. In a series of September 8 tweets, they outlined that a decision on slide canceling will “probably” depend on community reaction. “Slide cancelling won’t be in the beta,” they stated. “But they [Infinity Ward] have the option to turn it on and off (probably waiting for community reaction).” Plenty of CoD pros have spoken strongly on slide canceling in the past, but its exact spot in MW2 will be hard to determine without a proper feel for how it fits into the game’s matches and overall pacing. The Beta is currently set to take place over two periods. The first will be PlayStation exclusive and take place from September 16-17 (for those with early access) before being open to all on September 18-20. The second period is cross-platform, open to those with early access from September 22-23 and to all from September 24-26. While Metaphor has shared details correctly in the past, these leaks (like all) should not be taken as confirmed unless Activision or Infinity Ward break their silence over slide canceling. For now, though, it appears that the entire beta will proceed without the controversial movement mechanic.

Modern Warfare 2 leaks reveal much-wanted Gunsmith changes – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 leaks reveal much-wanted Gunsmith changes ActivisionNew Modern Warfare II leaks have surfaced from leaker and insider TheGhostofHope and it seems like the customization Gunsmith system is in for an overhaul. Call of Duty 2022 is still a while away but more and more details are hitting the internet by the day. While the upcoming sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare will reportedly feature several new game modes and will also usher in a new era of Warzone, those are not the only big changes Infinity Ward is making. Fresh tweets from TheGhostofHope suggest that the franchise’s signature weapon customization system will also be getting stripped down to a form more like the Call of Duty games of old. Modern Warfare 2’s gunsmith gets classic makeover If these reports are correct, then MWII will be using a five attachment system in place of the current 10 option version. This means classes will go back to looking more like the days of the ACR and UMP-45 than the Grau and OTs 9. The current era of Call of Duty features a deep and complex weapon-building system. In the newest game, Vanguard, Assault Rifles and Submachine Guns feature 10 total customization slots. Players use those slots to spec out the guns according to their preferences. While this allows for interesting combinations and creative expression, fans believe that it makes balancing the game much harder than in the past. Back in March TheGhostofHope also claimed that the game’s perk system would also be getting a revamp, so it seems like COD fans should buckle up for a whole new kind of experience when the new game arrives in late 2022.

Modern Warfare 2 leaks claim classic Black Ops & Sledgehammer maps will come as DLC – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 leaks claim classic Black Ops & Sledgehammer maps will come as DLC ActivisionFresh Call of Duty leaks claim a ‘greatest hits map pack’ will drop in Modern Warfare 2’s life-cycle, allegedly bringing a host of the series’ most popular environments to Infinity Ward’s 2022 title. Maps are always a major topic in the Call of Duty community, with well-designed, fast-paced, and enjoyable maps a shortcut to player enjoyment. While Modern Warfare 2’s maps – at least those we saw in the multiplayer Beta – received praise from the player base, the return of some of the series’ most popular maps will always be welcomed. Previous leaks have suggested a host of maps from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 will return but new information, from reputable leaker TheGhostofHope, suggests maps from a host of past titles will return. CoD leaker reveals ‘greatest hits’ map pack coming to Modern Warfare 2 On 4 October, the leaker claimed that part of the celebrations for 20 years of Call of Duty will see a ‘greatest hits map pack’ drop during year two of Modern Warfare 2. Although it has not yet been confirmed by Activision, rumors have circulated that MWII will become the first CoD game to get a two-year life-cycle. The map pack allegedly features maps from games developed by all three studios, rather than just Infinity Ward. It means maps like London Docks, Nuketown, Firing Range and Fringe could all return in Modern Warfare 2. However, the map pack is allegedly being developed as paid DLC, rather than a free expansion pack for all players. The news will disappoint some, but it does align with previous map packs that brought back fan favorite environments like Black Ops III’s Zombies Chronicles. Despite the impressive track record of the leaker, it’s worth taking these leaks (and all leaks) with a pinch of salt. Much can change in the development process and as such, the map pack remains unconfirmed until officially announced by Activision. Regardless, the potential for a return to some legendary CoD maps in Modern Warfare 2 will certainly raise fan anticipation.

Modern Warfare 2 leaker shares returning maps: Shipment, Terminal, Favela, more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 leaker shares returning maps: Shipment, Terminal, Favela, more ActivisionModern Warfare 2 is reportedly next on the calendar as Call of Duty’s 2022 reboot is rumored to feature a number of fan favorite maps from the 2009 classic. Modern Warfare 2 – the upcoming CoD set for 2022, not the original game of the same name – seemingly had a ton of information spill out online. Leaks suggest the campaign will be “brutally realistic,” even going so far as to compare it to Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2. On the Warzone front, the 2022 battle royale update will allegedly feature a number of familiar maps from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2. With that in mind, it’s also been suggested these recreations will feature elsewhere in the upcoming title. From Terminal to Favela, Modern Warfare 2 is reportedly set to bring a number of extremely popular maps back into the mix when it arrives next year. Returning Maps ⁃Favela ⁃Terminal ⁃Highrise ⁃Shipment ⁃Quarry— Ralph (@RalphsValve) November 2, 2021 While many maps are often cycled back every few years, a good amount of MW2 classics haven’t seen the light of day again since their initial release. Modern Warfare 2 (2022) is set to change that, according to CoD leaker ‘RalphsValve.’ Five original maps are reportedly locked in for modern remakes in next year’s release. Favela, Terminal, Highrise, Shipment, and Quarry round out the list. Of note, many names here were also outlined in an earlier report hinting at old locations to be featured in the next Warzone map. For the likes of Highrise and Quarry, these two maps haven’t appeared in a mainline CoD entry since the original MW2 in 2009. There’s no telling if these will be identical to their original layouts, or touched up slightly in line with recent remakes in the Black Ops series. Read More: All confirmed Call of Duty Vanguard weapons – It’s also worth taking everything here with a grain of salt for the time being. Given we’re still more than a year out from the next CoD and this year’s Vanguard not even out, there’s a good chance things change in development.

Modern Warfare 2 leaker reveals fan favorite weapons returning with Season 1 – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 leaker reveals fan favorite weapons returning with Season 1 ActivisionNew Modern Warfare 2 leaks claim to reveal the weapons returning when Season 1 drops on November 16, including a fan favorite Call of Duty Ghosts assault rifle. Modern Warfare 2’s launch on October 28 brought with it pre-season ahead of the start of Season 1 on November 16. Dropping alongside Warzone 2.0, it will bring the Tier 1 playlist and a couple of classic Call of Duty maps. New leaks though, claim there will also be some classic weapons from CoD history. Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 leaks claim Honey Badger AR returning The information comes from TheGhostofHope, a Call of Duty insider who has quickly cemented themselves as one of the most prominent leakers in the community. In a 2 November tweet, the leaker reported three weapons coming with Season 1. They will allegedly be the Chimera, the SIG MXC and the SIG MPX. The first two will both be ARs, based on the Honey Badger and the M13 respectively, while the latter will be a SMG. The Chimera will apparently take considerable inspiration from CoD Ghosts’ Honey Badger AR, a weapon plenty have wanted to see return after a strong iteration in the 2013 title. The leaker also stated that there could be more weapons added as well, but these relate to a specific weapon platform that will be added with Season 1. They said: “This doesn’t mean we won’t also have other weapons included that aren’t part of a weapon platform but this is the platform we’re getting for Season 1.” Naturally, it’s worth taking the information with a pinch of salt. Much can change in the development period and the weapons coming with Season 1 won’t be confirmed until they are officially announced by Infinity Ward and Activison. Either way, the first season of MW2 post-launch content is shaping up to be a major one.

Modern Warfare 2 leaker claims UI overhaul coming after fan backlash – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 leaker claims UI overhaul coming after fan backlash ActivisionNew Modern Warfare 2 leaks claim that the 2022 title will receive a UI and UX overhaul soon, after fan criticism described it as the “worst UI” in Call of Duty history. Modern Warfare 2’s global release on October 28 means fans are finally getting proper hands-on time with the game. As a result, they’re discovering its strengths, weaknesses, and everything in between. One aspect of the game that has received nearly universal is the User Interface, or UI. Referring to the menus, design, and accessibility, fans have described it as “purposefully confusing” and even the worst UI in CoD history. It featured on Dexerto’s list of beta features that needed to be tweaked ahead of the full game and, while it was tidied up slightly, many feel it’s still a long way short of where it needs to be. There’s good news in that regard though, with a reputable CoD leaker claiming there will be a UI overhaul for Modern Warfare 2 soon. CoD leaker claims Modern Warfare 2’s UI and UX will be overhauled On November 2, leaker RalphsValve claimed an “overhaul” to the game’s UI and UX (meaning User Experience) will be coming soon. The leaker’s report states that several departments at Infinity Ward are working on improving the UI/UX and that an overhaul will drop in-game in the near future. No specific date was provided but, with fan feedback being so vociferous, it wouldn’t be a shock to see it come in the next few weeks. Despite the leaker’s track record – correctly releasing information relating to MWII and Warzone 2 in the past – the news remains unconfirmed until made official by Activision or Infinity Ward. Regardless, players can look forward to UI and UX improvements coming with future updates, which will hopefully provide clarity over new features and gain more positive community feedback.

Modern Warfare 2 leaker claims massive SBMM changes are coming – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 leaker claims massive SBMM changes are coming Activision/TreyarchA Call of Duty leaker has claimed Modern Warfare 2 will arrive with major Skill-Based Matchmaking changes, including the addition of bot pools. The excitement for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is building and although there’s no official release just yet, we do know the game will be coming in 2022. While the devs remain tight-lipped about the project, countless rumors and leaks are giving fans some clues about potential features that could be set to arrive with the title. One of which revolves around SBMM, a controversial system in the Call of Duty community that players have requested to be changed for several years. Well, according to an associate close to MW2, significant SBMM changes are coming and they should make matches more balanced and fair. What SBMM changes are coming with Modern Warfare 2? According to Call of Duty leaker and writer Ralph Valve on WhatIfGaming, an associate close to Modern Warfare 2 has shared a number of changes coming to SBMM in the upcoming title. For starters, MW2 will introduce Bot Pools to matchmaking for players whose skills and statistics are eligible to enter these lobbies. This new system is designed for a specific “subsection” of players and is also just one of many “accessibility options” arriving with the new title. Not only that, the devs are hoping this system change will help to combat smurfs and provide players with balanced and fair matches. Finally, the associate revealed that disbanding lobbies are supposedly here to stay in Call of Duty, with them claiming that if they “were removed, [SBBM] would collapse.” While the leaks above only reveal a small set of changes, there’s no doubt Call of Duty players will be pleased that the devs are finally addressing the SBMM system. As we move closer to the release of MW2, it’ll be interesting to see if any other features related to matchmaking are unveiled. However, in the meantime, it’s worth noting that these leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt, as no official information has been announced just yet.

Modern Warfare 2 leaker claims Las Almas could “100%” be a Warzone 2 map – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 leaker claims Las Almas could “100%” be a Warzone 2 map ActivisionCall of Duty leaker TheGhostofHope has claimed that Modern Warfare 2’s Las Almas will “100%” be Warzone 2.0’s next battle royale map after the location featured in the 2022 title’s campaign. Modern Warfare 2’s early access campaign dropped on October 20, letting players dive into Infinity Ward’s latest Call of Duty installment, even if multiplayer and DMZ don’t go live until October 28. It has long been known that the campaign focuses on special forces’ fight against South American drug cartels. One such cartel in the campaign is the Las Almas Cartel, an organization based in Mexico. They are based in the fictional Las Almas region, a large city environment complete with mountains, an airport and built-up suburban areas (sound familiar?). Leaker claims Warzone 2.0 could “100%” have a Las Almas map Shortly after the campaign dropped, reputable leaker TheGhostofHope, who has correctly leaked multiple strands of information relating to Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2, claimed that Las Almas could “100%” be a battle royale map in the former title. They said: “Las Almas is 100% gonna be our next big BR map for Warzone 2.” It’s fairly typical for Warzone to incorporate POIs and locations from the main series with Al Mazrah, the map Warzone 2.0 is set to launch with, featuring nods to past CoD environments like Terminal, Showdown and Highrise. ‘Mercado Las Almas’ actually features as a multiplayer map in Modern Warfare 2 as well – a market based in the region. It has also been leaked that Treyarch will drop a Warzone 2.0 map when they release CoD 2024, so there is the potential for a Las Almas environment to slot somewhere in between the two. Naturally (and in spite of accurate leaks in the past), players should take this claim with a pinch of salt. Plenty can change in development and nothing is set in stone until Activision or Infinity Ward officially confirm details. Regardless, Las Almas’ similarities to Verdansk were clocked by plenty of fans, who were more than excited at the prospect of it become a battle royale arena.

Modern Warfare 2 leak unearths Diablo IV crossover coming – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 leak unearths Diablo IV crossover coming Activision BlizzardModern Warfare 2 data miners uncovered references to a Diablo IV crossover, and it’s rumored to be coming just around the corner. Leaks are coming thick and fast for new Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone crossover events. On August 30, data miners discovered files related to Skeletor, Spawn, Ash Williams, and Alucard operators. This comes after Season already added 21 Savage, Nicki Minaj, and Snoop Dogg. And Activision kept the train rolling in the mid-season update by introducing Lara Croft. Based on the rumors, CharlieIntel suggested: “Seems like Season 06 will have a lot of licensed Operators.” And that hunch appears to be correct, as another data mine dug up Icons related to the Diablo IV universe. Modern Warfare 2 and Diablo IV collaboration leaked On September 4, CharlieIntel reported: “Data miners have found reference to Lilith and Butcher icons in Warzone after the latest game update.” The reliable Call of Duty news source added that rumors suggest the “collaboration is happening with Season 6 and the Haunting.” Based on the Battle Pass, Modern Warfare 2 Season 6 is expected to start on Wednesday 27. Lilith is the primary antagonist of Diablo IV, and she instantly became a fan-favorite villain, as some fans even wanted to side with her. Meanwhile, Butcher is a powerful enemy that randomly spawns in the game’s dungeons or cellars. It’s unclear if both characters will appear as operators or what sort of cameo they will make in the Call of Duty universe. That’s all we know about the Diablo IV and Modern Warfare 2 crossover so far. For more, make sure to check out the rest of our Season 5 Reloaded coverage.

Modern Warfare 2 confirms Spawn, Lilith & more licensed Operators in Season 6 – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 confirms Spawn, Lilith & more licensed Operators in Season 6 ActivisionActivision announced Skeletor, Spawn, Ash Williams, and Allucard as new operators coming to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone during Season 6. After a slow start, Activision has ramped up its efforts to add licensed operators. Season 4 Reloaded saw the Boys’ Homelander, Black Noir, and Starlight join the cast. Not long after, Season 5 added Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, and 21 Savage, while the mid-season update kept the ball rolling by introducing Lara Craft. Previously, some community members stayed away from making store purchases, fearing they would lose them when Modern Warfare 3 hits shelves. That all changed when Sledgehammer Games announced the Carry Forward program. We now know that all MW2 weapon progression, operator skins, and weapon blueprints carry over to the next series entry. With that knowledge, there is plenty of reason to get excited about what Season 6 has in store for fans. Skeletor, Spawn, Ash Williams, Inarius, Lilith, and Alucard revealed as new Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone operators Activision revealed a Season 6 roadmap, which starts on September 27 at 9 am PT. The seasonal update marks the long-awaited return of Zombie Royal and also introduces a whole host of new operators, including Spawn, Ash Williams, Skeletor, Inarius, Lilith, and Alucard. Spawn fits in perfectly with the rest of the Call of Duty operators, and fans are probably most familiar with the iconic character from the HBO animated series. The hero started as a decorated officer in the US Marine Corps and served as an assassin for the CIA before getting his superpowers and becoming a Hellspawn. Ash Williams, the protagonist of the Evil Dead Series, also joins the fight in Season 6. Williams fights evil creatures possessed by a demon but uses a variety of weapons to do so. With the addition of a chainsaw alongside his pump action shotgun, Williams will have every usual weapon at his disposal. Villains slot in seamlessly to Modern Warfare 2. Activision already added TMNT’s Shredder, so it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to see Skeletor as a new operator. The Masters of the Universe antagonist is a beloved character that has been around since the 80s. The same can be said about Inarius and Lilith, who both served as memorable antagonists in Diablo IV. Both characters will be available as operators in Season 6. Finally, Alucard is the main protagonist of the Hellsing manga and anime series. The vampire ironically works as a vampire hunter and does so while carrying around akimbo semi-automatic pistols. It would be very easy to give the character his weapons in Modern Warfare 2. We will provide an update when Activision reveals more information about unlocking each operator.

Modern Warfare 2 leak reveals return of multiple classic Call of Duty modes – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 leak reveals return of multiple classic Call of Duty modes Activision/TreyarchA datamine through Call of Duty Mobile may have revealed the multiplayer game modes included in Modern Warfare 2. Anticipation for Modern Warfare 2 was at an all-time after the initial reveal trailer, and subsequent gameplay reveal at Summer Games Fest. A short news dry spell followed the two big reveals, but a few sprinkled-in leaks kept fans on their toes. Ranked mode is rumored to come “shortly after launch,” and a major CoD leak revealed Modern Warfare 2 and CoD 2024 maps. The latest major leak reveals multiple classic Call of Duty game modes returning for Modern Warfare 2. Modern Warfare 2 leak reveals classic game modes Call of Duty leaker Reality datamined Call of Duty Mobile and discovered Modern Warfare 2 Perks, Killstreaks, Field Upgrades, and modes. One of the game modes included in the leak is Gunfight. In a June Q&A session with GameSpot, CoD developers confirmed that Gunfight would return in Modern Warfare 2. Reality revealed that Infection might be returning to Modern Warfare 2. Infected is a fan-favorite Call of Duty game mode in which players try to survive as long as possible without becoming “infected.” Other notable returning game modes include Cyber Attack, Headquarters, Cranked, and Demolition. Cyber Attack is inspired by Search and Destroy and Sabotage. Teams fight to retrieve an EMP device and use it to destroy the opposing team’s data center. Players do not respawn, but players can revive teammates. Cranked plays similarly to Team Deathmatch, yet after a kill, a 30-second timer activates. Players gain fast movement speed, reload, and ADS time but will blow up if they don’t get another kill within 30 seconds. New modes include Knockout, Ground War Bomb, and All or Nothing. Make sure to check out our full coverage of CoD Modern Warfare 2.

Modern Warfare 2 leak reveals first look at Paul Pogba and Neymar operators – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 leak reveals first look at Paul Pogba and Neymar operators EA Sports / ActivisionA new Modern Warfare 2 leak has revealed the first look at the upcoming Paul Pogba and Neymar operators, after famous footballer skins were leaked some weeks back. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will pick up where its predecessor ended in terms of skins, operators, and characters. Modern Warfare 2019 brought a host of new and likable characters into Infinity Ward’s rebooted series, most notably Ghost, who could even be in line for a spin-off series of his own. Not all skins coming to the title will be strictly military, however. We’ve already seen a Burger Town operator come as part of Call of Duty’s crossover with Burger King and, some weeks back, leaks revealed that a series of the world’s most famous footballers – Lionel Messi, Paul Pogba, and Neymar – would come to MWII as purchasable skins. That leak appears to have been borne out, with new images revealing exactly what fans can expect from the football operator skins. Paul Pogba and Neymar skins leaked for Modern Warfare 2 On October 27, leaked pictures surfaced showing exactly how Neymar and Paul Pogba will look in-game. While some expected the footballers to drop in sporting outfits, it would hardly have been in keeping with Modern Warfare 2’s militaristic aesthetic. Instead, both drop-in camouflaged military gear, complete with headsets, armed forces equipment, and even protective eyewear. Many were skeptical about their inclusion in Modern Warfare 2, concerned it would break the immersion that game devs work so hard to create. However, there was general praise for the look of the operators after it became clear they’d remain consistent with the game’s color scheme and overall aesthetic. Some even claimed they look better in Modern Warfare 2 than they do in FIFA 23. The images certainly indicate the accuracy of the original leaks (meaning Lionel Messi’s in-game skin should surface soon) and points to many more ambitious crossovers to come. It’s not yet confirmed, but it’s hard to imagine these skins won’t also transition into Warzone 2.0 when the battle royale sequel drops on November 16.

Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone devs confirm Dune crossover – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone devs confirm Dune crossover ActivisionCall of Duty announced a crossover with Dune coming to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone. Here is everything you need to know about what’s coming. Modern Warfare 2 Season 6 is here, chock full of exciting crossover operator bundles. Players unlock the iconic superhero Spawn by purchasing the Battle Pass. Meanwhile, there are plenty of other Halloween-inspired operator bundles to purchase as well. Examples include Ash Williams from The Evil Dead, Hellsing’s Alucard, and Lilith from Diablo IV. With so many skins to choose from, some community members have crowned Season 6 as Modern Warfare 2’s best Battle Pass to date. This season also marks MW2’s final run before Modern Warfare 3 hits shelves in November. It’s unclear how much new content the current game will still receive. However, the devs show no signs of showing down, even in November. Dune operator coming to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone On September 27, Call of Duty announced: “The most ferocious warriors in the known universe – the Sardaukar, are coming to Call of Duty.” Players will be able to purchase the operator starting on November 1. Activision did not reveal an official price, but we expect the operator to cost 2,400 CoD points, equivalent to $19.99 / £16.79. Dune: Part Two was initially set to release on October 20, 2023, but the movie received a delay until March 15, 2024. The sci-fi action movie would perfectly fit the Call of Duty universe, as the series is centered around a planet thrust into war over a power struggle. If players have any reservations, the Carry Forward program ensures that players can use the Dune operator in Modern Warfare 3.

Modern Warfare 2 leak reveals all upcoming weapons including Intervention – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 leak reveals all upcoming weapons including Intervention ActivisionModern Warfare 2 players may have been given an early look at every new weapon that will be coming to the title over the course of MW2’s final few seasons thanks to a new leak. As with every new Call of Duty game, Modern Warfare 2 has seen the systematic implementation of new maps, as well as new weapons to try out. Additional guns can have a big say on the game’s meta, as well as generally provide players with new, free content. Since its launch, Modern Warfare 2 has welcomed the likes of the ISO Hemlock Assault Rifle and the BAS-P SMG. Weapons are generally revealed not long before either a new season update or the midseason Rewloaed patch. A leak has possibly ripped up the rulebook though as it features a list of every weapon supposedly going to drop between now and the end of its lifecycle – when CoD 2023 comes out. Leaked Modern Warfare 2 weapons Reputable leaker Task Force Leakers 141 followed up their own tweet which suggested the FAMAS would be returning in Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 with another tweet detailing a complete list of weapons. It uses the codename for 13 different weapons, some of which can be easily deciphered such as the Kali Sticks at the bottom of the list. Furthering the idea of this leak, a Reddit post claimed that the “remaining weapons (S3-S5) have been found in the data.” Along with the codenames, the user also pointed out what each of the codenames actually represented. If true, players will get to unlock and use classic weapons such as the Intervention Sniper Rifle, as well as the Tec-9. This could be seen as a huge blow for the devs who will likely have been keeping back some of these guns as a surprise and using them as firepower for new seasonal roadmaps. As a reminder, this is just a leak, so it should be taken with a pinch of salt just in case. We’ll have to see if these guns do eventually debut in Modern Warfare 2, but we do know that certain game modes will be returning thanks to a datamine.

Modern Warfare 2 leak reveals abandoned Grand Prix map will be available after legal concerns – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 leak reveals abandoned Grand Prix map will be available after legal concerns ActivisionModern Warfare 2 map Marina Bay Grand Prix mysteriously disappeared from promotional content, but a leak revealed the F1-themed map would be available at launch. During Modern Warfare 2’s Open Beta, players got their hands on four traditional multiplayer maps and two Ground War maps. Activision has not yet revealed how many maps will be included at launch. A leak revealed the ‘greatest hits’ map pack is coming to MW2 in 2023, featuring classic Black Ops and Sledgehammer maps and Activision announced in its launch blog that on December 14, “another legendary Multiplayer map comes to Modern Warfare 2.” While players expected to see Grand Prix in the Open Beta, it mysteriously disappeared from all marketing material and never showed up during the public play test. Fortunately, a leak claims all previous issues related to the situation have been taken care of. Grand Prix is allegedly returning to Modern Warfare 2 We got our first glimpse of Grand Prix at CoD Champs 2022. The map is a mid-range arena in Singapore where players battle it out around a race track. On September 17, CharlieINTEL reported, “Activision has deleted all mentions of the Grand Prix map for Modern Warfare 2. The overview video and more have been removed from all social media. The map was originally announced to be in the beta.” On October 18, Call of Duty leaker TheGhostOfHope claimed, “Grand Prix will be playable at the launch of Modern Warfare 2. Issues surrounding the map were resolved.” Modern Warfare 2 launches on October 28, but players who pre-order the game receive campaign early access beginning on October 20. Activision stated they will release a blog post featuring all maps closer to MW2’s release window, and we will provide an update regarding Marina Bay Grand Prix if its mentioned in there.

Modern Warfare 2 leak claims two fan-favorite maps returning in Season 1 update – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 leak claims two fan-favorite maps returning in Season 1 update ActivisionModern Warfare 2 players familiar with the Multiplayer playlist “Shoot The ship” could be in store for great news, as leaks hinted at the two popular maps coming during Season 1. In the MW2 launch blog, Activision confirmed a “fan favorite” map is coming on November 16, alongside the release of Warzone 2. The developers also announced a “legendary” multiplayer map is entering the fray on December 14. Modern Warfare 2’s best detectives got on the case, trying to uncover both maps. Players discovered classic MW2 (2009) maps Highrise and Terminal by going into a private match and flying around as a spectator. Unfortunately, eager veterans may have to wait until 2023 to relive those classic environments. Leaks suggest that Shoot House and Shipment are the maps coming to Modern Warfare 2 in the Season 1 update. Leaks suggest Shoot House and Shipment coming to MW2 CharlieINTEL reported: “Recent leaks have stated that the fan-favorite maps that Activision has for Season 01 of Modern Warfare II are Shoot House and Shipment.” Shoot House was a DLC map added to Modern Warfare 2019 shortly after the game’s release. It became an instant hit for grinding camos and going on Nuke runs. Shipment needs no introduction. The classic environment first appeared in Call of Duty 4 and is the smallest map in Call of Duty series history, making it the perfect proving ground for Free-for-All or fast-paced games. Modern Warfare 2’s Farm 18 map was inspired by Shoot House. The developers aimed to create a similar “Shoothopuse-type situation” in the middle of Farm 18 while allowing different playstyles in other map areas.” We will provide an update when the MW2 Season 1 blog releases on November 9.

Modern Warfare 2 leak claims ranked mode coming “shortly after” launch – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 leak claims ranked mode coming “shortly after” launch ActivisionA Call of Duty leaker has claimed that upcoming CoD title Modern Warfare II may have a ranked mode shortly after launch, and it will be developed by Treyarch. With the growth of the Call of Duty League, and esports as a whole, in recent years, most multiplayer games nowadays will bring a ranked mode for players to compete against like-minded opponents on a similar skill level to them. Across all different titles — including in the current CoD: Vanguard — players grind ranked modes to get as high a rank as possible and be recognized for their skill. This has become a contentious topic among Call of Duty players in recent years, though. Most players believe that the game needs ranked and, not only that, there should be one available as soon as the game launches. While ranked at launch doesn’t appear to be on the cards this time around, leaker TheGhostofHope has claimed that it will be in the game, though it won’t be until “shortly after launch.” EXCLUSIVE: Ranked Play will be coming to Modern Warfare II shortly after launch with Treyarch leading development on the mode. pic.twitter.com/NAeJKgVwkW — Hope (@TheGhostOfHope) July 7, 2022 Ghost also said that Treyarch will be developing the ranked mode, with the Black Ops series developers typically a fan-favorite among the competitive Call of Duty community. This means we could get a similar ranked mode to what currently exists in Vanguard, with Treyarch also developing it for the current title. This would also mark the first time an Infinity Ward game has included a ranked mode. Black Ops 2 was the first CoD title to have one, and none of Ghosts, Infinite Warfare, or Modern Warfare 2019 in the time since then included a ranked mode. There’s no clear definition for what Ghost means by “shortly after” launch. Vanguard’s didn’t arrive until February 2022, 3 months after release, while the year before, Black Ops Cold War didn’t get ranked until February, either. This could mean that Modern Warfare 2 ranked is planned for January or even December.

Modern Warfare 2 launch update: slide cancelling, camping issues, enemy visibility – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 launch update: slide cancelling, camping issues, enemy visibility ActivisionModern Warfare 2’s Open Beta provided an opportunity for players to recommend final tune-ups. Infinity Ward took the feedback to heart and announced changes coming to the final game. According to the official Call of Duty Twitter account, Modern Warfare 2 was the most-played Beta in series history. Despite boasting a staggering player count, the Beta received mixed reviews from community members. We listed five features Infinity Ward needed to change before MW2’s October 28 release, and sure enough, the developers announced changes to three of our biggest concerns. Let’s take a look at what’s different from the Beta experience. Infinity Ward addresses community concerns from the Open Beta Infinity Ward released a blog going over the development team’s changes since the Beta. The most significant changes address enemy visibility, audio, UI, movement, and matchmaking. First up, nameplates were controversially removed from enemies, making it hard to differentiate between friend and foe. Enemies now have diamond icons above their heads, and tweaks to lighting and contrast should make it easier to see. The overall range of footstep audio was decreased, making it easier for players to maneuver around corners without being punished. The activation sound effect for the Dead Silence field upgrade was also drastically reduced. CDL pro-Shotzzy discovered how to slide cancel during the Beta. Infinity Ward stated, ” we addressed some movement exploits,” but they did not specifically mention slide canceling. CoD Vanguard players voiced their frustrations with lobbies disbanding after matches. The same feature was included in Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare 2019. Classic CoD titles would keep players in the same lobby until they left. Infinity Ward said, “we have implemented some changes that aim to reduce lobby disbandment between matches.” We will provide updates on any other changes coming to MW2 leading up to release day.

Modern Warfare 2 is bringing “lethal” AI bots to Warzone – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 is bringing “lethal” AI bots to Warzone ActivisionCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is going to shake up Warzone with one of its biggest changes to date, featuring improved AI that some may call “bots”. The game was given its worldwide reveal on June 8, with gameplay being revealed during Summer Game Fest. A number of details have been shared regarding open beta early access, with players getting the opportunity to go hands-on with Infinity Ward’s sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare title. Mark Grigsby, Animation Director at Infinity Ward, has discussed some of the upcoming changes for their popular battle royale title – one of which, Fortnite players will be very familiar with. How AI will work in Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone During an early access event, Charlie Intel – a Dexerto sister website – was shown some gameplay footage, and was able to get hands-on with MW2. Grigsby revealed that “lethal” Artificial Intelligence will bring the world of Modern Warfare to life like never before, stating NPCs will “provide an interesting and engaging experience” for Call of Duty players. This AI technology has been developed for all game modes, meaning it will feature in Campaign, Multiplayer, Co-Op, and Warzone. The level of quality, he said, will not vary between these modes and the idea is that they’re so effective they will “command player respect.” Delving deeper into the feature, the Animation Director stated the bots will care for other characters, be aware of their surrounding like never before, and will have hunting techniques. https://youtu.be/Xd9QeRguvDA How will it work? Comparing MW2 AI to that of the 2019 iteration, Grigsby said: “We noticed that AI would walk through hostile areas and not checking their corners… “Looking around different parts and feel more natural, like human people who are nervous about their lives.” After working with military personnel and advisors, Infinity Ward believes the new AI, empowered with motion-captured movements for realism, will check corners and hunt opponents in a smarter way than ever before. They also teased that these bots could “protect areas that have cool things” in future Warzone iterations, with more information expected to be revealed at a later date. In Warzone 2, for example, AI could be used on “large scale maps, large scale environments” with one example being 300 AI operating in a space with 100 live players. Modern Warfare 2 releases on October 28, 2022 – so we’ll have to wait and see. Modern Warfare 2 is bringing back fan-favorite game mode – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 is bringing back fan-favorite game mode Call of Duty’s cult classic game mode Gunfight may not be included at the launch of Modern Warfare 2 — but fans can rest easy knowing its return is in the pipeline. Modern Warfare 2 was officially revealed on June 8 and two new round-based objective modes called Hostage and Knockout were announced. Hostage is a 6v6 prisoner rescue experience that brings breaching and sieging gameplay to Call of Duty. Players have two prisoners to protect on one team, and the other team has to rescue them and bring them back. Rounds are won by either eliminating the enemies or saving the prisoners. Knockout is a 2v2 or 3v3 one-life, best of five-game mode, that Activision coined as Gunfight meets core Multiplayer. Both teams fight to grab and hold a bag of cash and the last team holding the bag of cash wins. Players are able to be revived after being downed. In many ways, Knockout is a spiritual successor to Gunfight, but fans of the original Gunfight won’t have to wait forever before jumping back into the original game mode. Gunfight is returning to Modern Warfare 2 In a Q&A session with developers, it was revealed that Gunfight will return to Modern Warfare 2 “at some point,” as reported by GameSport. It was first introduced in Modern Warfare 2019 and also made an appearance in Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty Mobile. Gunfight is a 2v2 game mode with the goal of killing the enemy team within 40 seconds. If the time runs out, an overtime flag spawns for 10 seconds and both teams have a chance to capture the flag to win the round. The first team to win six rounds wins the entire match. https://youtu.be/r72GP1PIZa0 Over its lifespan, several different iterations of the mode were introduced such as sniper-only, mele-only, custom load-outs, and even a snowball event. By the end of Modern Warfare 2019, there were 19 Gunfight maps nine during Black Ops Cold War, and 11 in Call of Duty Mobile. It is too early to tell if Gunfight in Modern Warfare 2 will receive anything even close to the support it did in other titles, but any sort of return is exciting news. Modern Warfare 2 introduces new equipment to support variety of play styles – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 introduces new equipment to support variety of play styles ActivisionModern Warfare 2 has officially been announced, and the reveal has been and gone, with details starting to seep out about what to expect in the next installment of the Call of Duty franchise. With the expansion of equipment and Field Upgrades in recent CoD titles, MW2 looks set to add even more. Looking to change up gameplay and offer something fresh for Call of Duty players old and new, a number of new items are coming to MW2. Discussing with developers Infinity Ward, we found out about the new equipment coming to the game. New equipment in Modern Warfare 2 Here’s the new equipment coming to MW2, as well as what they do — but note that this list may not be exhaustive, and there could be more once the game officially drops. Tactical Camera Throw a Tactical Camera up on a wall, hop in, and look in it to find opponents – Can place multiple across the map and switch between them – If a player moves in front of the camera, it sets off an audio notification – If you are manning the camera, you can ping enemy players for your teammates – Drill Charge Throw a Drill Charge on a wall, and it will shoot grenades through the wall that then detonate once inside – Throw it on a vehicle and it’ll Drill Charge the vehicle, killing everyone. It doesn’t destroy the vehicle, however. – DDOS With this EMP device; your HUD tells you if there are vehicles and equipment you can hit with it. It sends out an EMP pulse, stalling equipment, and vehicles. – If your vehicle gets DDOS’ed while driving, you get a button prompt to restart the engine of the car – Inflatable Decoy A Kevlar dummy, it acts like a car airbag, going off when an enemy walks by it – You can also manually deploy your Inflatable Decoy – Acts likes a Proximity mine decoy: when someone gets closer, it’ll pop up and auto-orients to them – Also works in water – With this whole range of new equipment coming to Call of Duty, the gameplay is going to be considerably different if they’re utilized properly. Items like the Tactical Camera could be hugely influential, especially in modes like Search and Destroy where having enemy intel is paramount to winning. How exactly they’re implemented remains to be seen — they could be Field Upgrades or Tactical Equipment, but either way, they’re bound to switch things up quite significantly. After players have unlocked this skin for Captain Price, they can use it across Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer modes as well as in Warzone 2. Preparing for Raid Episode 2 There are a few things players can do before Raid Episode 2 releases. Modern Warfare 2 hacker rejoins game immediately after being banned – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 hacker rejoins game immediately after being banned ActivisionA Modern Warfare 2 lobby was left absolutely baffled after the RICOCHET anti-cheat banned a player in the middle of a match — then that hacker immediately rejoined the lobby to continue cheating against his opponents. Call of Duty has had a cheating problem for some time now, peaking during the Verdansk days in Warzone, as hackers run rampant across the battle royale title. This forced Activision’s hand and they implemented the RICOCHET anti-cheat system into the game which, despite seeing a huge drop in hackers, hasn’t managed to completely eradicate them, as hacking software updates almost as fast as the anti-cheat itself to give cheaters the opportunity to keep at it. However, a player being banned doesn’t necessarily mean they can no longer play again, with many cheaters opting to create new accounts to bypass their bans. COD cheater returns immediately after ban That’s not the only way to come back after a RICOCHET ban, however, as proven in this clip from social media, that has left players seriously confused. As illogical explains, one of the players on the enemy team in a game of Search and Destroy was blatantly cheating, making no attempt to hide it, and were banned after just a couple of rounds, disappearing from the lobby. Just a few minutes later, however, after another round, the cheater simply rejoined illogical’s game and continued cheating, much to the players’ frustration and confusion. You can hear the confusion in everyone’s voice as they realise the hacker is back in, too, clearly baffled at what had even happened and how the player had got around the ban, It’s not a different account with the same name, either, as the Activision ID number is identical, meaning the player essentially got pulled out of the game then allowed to get back in straight away. How exactly they were able to do that is unclear, but it does show a fatal flaw in RICOCHET’s punishment system that Activision will no doubt want to look into.

Modern Warfare 2 Gun Game finally brings back classic CoD mini-map – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 Gun Game finally brings back classic CoD mini-map ActivisonModern Warfare 2 players have been begging for red dots to return to minimaps, and the classic feature finally returned, but with a catch. Modern Warfare 2 controversially removed red dots from the minimap during multiplayer matches unless a UAV is active. In previous CoD titles, a red dot would reveal an enemy’s location if they fired an unsuppressed weapon. Community members slammed the decision, but Infinity Ward explained the reasoning behind their design choice. “The design reason for this is that we do not want to punish players for firing their weapons. We also want players to actively search out the origin of a gunshot versus just traveling directly to where the dot is on the minimap.” MW2 added Gun Game as a playable game mode in Season 2, and the mode features the classic minimap without any explanation from the developers. Modern Warfare 2 reintroduces red dots on minimap for Gun Game On February 22, Infinity Ward added Gun Game as a playable game mode, and players immediately noticed the different minimap. Call of Duty YouTuber JGOD posted a clip of a Gun Game match and Tweeted, “So the minimap works like it is supposed to in Gun Game?” As you can see in the clip below, when an enemy fires an unsuppressed weapon, a red dot appears on the minimap, just as it worked in previous CoD titles. JGOD couldn’t believe his eyes and joked that the developers had to be trolling. Call of Duty community member ModernWarzone claimed, “It’s literally an option in the settings menu. Of course, it’s possible.” JGOD refuted and argued, “I thought it was removed.” Other players in the comment section noted it must be a bug and will likely be removed soon. We will provide an update when we learn more about the mysterious return of red dots.

Modern Warfare 2 players convinced weapons are actually better without attachments – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 players convinced weapons are actually better without attachments Activision BlizzardAfter checking weapon stats, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players found that attachments might make guns worse. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 hit stores shelves last week, yet users have already stumbled across a fair few issues. For instance, cheaters are employing a God Mode glitch to outmaneuver those who play by the rules. A game-breaking XP bug has caused quite a ruckus in its own right, as well. But it seems that even deliberate design choices made by the developer have ruffled feathers in the community, particularly with regard to gun attachments. Are guns in Modern Warfare 2 better without attachments? Thanks to analyses by prominent content creators such as P4wnyhof, MW2 players recently came to the conclusion that many weapon attachments aren’t worth the hassle. With rifles like the Lachmann-556, attachments that benefit recoil and damage stats also harbor negative stats that hurt ADS. Equipping a new muzzle can prove equally challenging since several of those add-ons reduce aiming stability. Stacking modifications only exacerbates the issue, thus canceling out any bonuses they may otherwise provide. Many members of the Modern Warfare 2 community are, understandably, displeased by these attachment-related revelations. As a result, the Modern Warfare subreddit has become a sounding board for those questioning Infinity Ward’s design choices. Not all hope is completely lost on this front, however. As noted by P4wnyhof, a number of attachments actually improve weapons without hindering other stats. Some under barrels like the FSS Sharkfin 90, for example, boost Aiming Idle Stability and feature no cons. Meanwhile, players may want to check out the Echoline GS-X muzzle, whose only downside impacts the Damage Range. Whatever their preference, Modern Warfare 2 players would do well to pay close attention to the weapon modification options. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is out now on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

Modern Warfare 2 Grand Prix map mysteriously vanishes – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 Grand Prix map mysteriously vanishes ActivisionModern Warfare 2 fans were surprised when the new Grand Prix map was suspiciously absent from the beta after being promoted in tons of promotional material. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2’s beta is finally here, delivering a remaster years and years in the making. Dedicated CoD fans dove in head first into the game’s new content which includes a switchable third-person camera, new weapons, and brand new visuals to modernize the game which originally launched way back in 2009. While players have been discovering everything in the remaster, one specific new map players were looking forward to has seemingly vanished. Modern Warfare 2 Grand Prix map not in beta The MW2 beta began on September 16 for PlayStation only, and fans instantly noticed that the new Marina Bay Grand Prix map was not in the game. In fact, all mention of the Grand Pix map seemed to be wiped from the game, after months of promotional material building hype around the map. Grind Pix was slated to be an F1-inspired map in Modern Warfare 2, but now, might not make it into the game at all. One unhappy CoD fan on social media said, “Took out the one map we all wanted to play, f*cked with the mini-map, gave us terrible movement with insane TTK, and a terrible perk system. On top of that, the unlocking of guns is a puzzle of its own. Any positives about this CoD?” As of now, it is unclear why the map was removed, or if it will be put back into the game come full launch. If you are looking o get into the MW2 beta, we’ve got you covered.

Modern Warfare 2 players ruin God Mode cheaters with this trick – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 players ruin God Mode cheaters with this trick Activision BlizzardThose who encounter players using the God Mode exploit in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 should combat the glitch with fire. It didn’t take long for Call of Duty players to stumble across a God Mode glitch following the launch of Modern Warfare’s sequel. This particular exploit requires the use of a riot shield that, under certain circumstances, will effectively turn a player invincible. Suffice it to say, this is a problem that many MW2 users are all too eager to see nipped in the bud. Until a proper fix goes live, some people have found a temporary solution that supposedly nullifies the exploit. Fight Modern Warfare 2’s God Mode glitch with fire Call of Duty-dedicated news account ModernWarzone has offered advice to MW2 players who run into others using the riot shield glitch. According to the Twitter user, “fire is the only way” to eliminate those leveraging the exploit in question. And, apparently, Molotov cocktails and thermite will do the trick. The replies to the ModernWarzone post are filled with players saying they’ve encountered the God Mode glitch in Modern Warfare 2. It appears, then, that a large number of users are well aware of the exploit and have no qualms about using it to their advantage. At the time of writing, there’s no word on whether developer Infinity Ward intends to issue a proper fix in the near future. Fans would do well to keep in mind the Molotov and thermite advice. Hopefully, the issue won’t plague the shooter for too much longer. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is in stores now for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.

Game-breaking Modern Warfare 2 Beta glitch lets snipers see through smoke – Dexerto
Game-breaking Modern Warfare 2 Beta glitch lets snipers see through smoke ActivisionA game-changing Modern Warfare 2 bug has snipers running rampant in week two of the Beta, with scopes now enabling players to see right through smoke. With the second and final week of the Modern Warfare 2 Beta now in effect, players across all platforms are getting in on the action. While the initial PlayStation-only test had its fair share of issues, some of which developers have already looked to address, it appears more are now piling up in week two. Visibility has been a consistent gripe in the community with many calling for key changes in that regard. Effects from smoke grenades and killstreaks have left players struggling to see in front of them. While Infinity Ward is well aware, it now seems the issue has become more alarming. In the second week of the Beta, players have noticed snipers are shockingly able to see through smoke as though it was never there. As first shared on Reddit by ‘GT-Ranz’ before being circulated by CharlieIntel, aiming down sights with a sniper scope equipped completely removes any smoke effects from the map. While unscoped, the player was unable to see through gates on the Mercado Las Almas map. Quickly scoping in removed all smoke from the area, allowing them to see directly through to the other side. Obviously, select players being able to outright ignore smoke provides a major advantage. Historically, only thermal scopes were designed to see enemies through such effects, requiring a custom class in order to do so. In the Modern Warfare 2 Beta, however, regular sniper scopes appear to be doing the trick. Unfortunately, such a game-breaking issue has become somewhat of a trend at launch in new Call of Duty titles. Modern Warfare 2019 saw a similar bug ruining matches weeks after release. Black Ops Cold War also had problems with smoke, so severe in fact, it led to a year without snipers in competitive play. Given Modern Warfare 2 is only just in Beta, there’s a chance we see this new instance of the bug fixed before launch. But given the series’ track record, it’s equally likely it takes a good while to fix.

Modern Warfare 2 gameplay reveal plans leaked by CoD insider – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 gameplay reveal plans leaked by CoD insider ActivisionIndustry insider Tom Henderson suggests that Modern Warfare 2’s gameplay reveal isn’t too far away and that Activision has already a set a date and time for the event. Modern Warfare 2 is the follow-up to 2019’s reboot of the MW series, but outside of that fact, not much else is known about the game. We’ve heard that there are updates coming to the gunsmith system and that a few classic weapons are coming back, but no other hard details have hit the internet yet. However, if Tom Henderson’s newest report is correct, that could be changing relatively soon. Call of Duty insider leaks Modern Warfare 2 reveal plans Henderson suggests that a first glimpse at the game is coming in the form of a campaign reveal and will be released on June 2. This was supposed to line-up with E3, but seeing as that event is no longer happening, the new entry to the franchise will carry on alone. “Sources had also suggested that campaign gameplay is also expected to be revealed ‘at an event when E3 was meant to be,’ which presumably means around the same time as Summer Games Fest 2022.” TheGhostofHope, another prominent CoD leaker, has also backed up this claim, saying: “I was told May 30 but it is that same week so close enough.” June 2nd for #ModernWarfareII Reveal Trailer from what I’m hearing. I was told May 30th but it is that same week so close enough. pic.twitter.com/vYWdjio4kC — Hope (@TheGhostOfHope) May 3, 2022 According to his notes, Henderson’s sources also floated a loose widow for a multiplayer reveal, but the details aren’t quite set in stone for that yet. “Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer will likely be revealed in August, but it’s currently not clear if that will include a Warzone event, as we’ve seen with the past two Call of Duty reveals.” Activision has yet to confirm or deny these dates, but given that June is typically a big month for gaming news, it would be wise for players to keep their eyes peeled anyway.

Modern Warfare 2 free trial comes with catch that has players furious – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 free trial comes with catch that has players furious ActivisionActivision announced a free trial period for Modern Warfare 2, but a playtime limit has community members up in arms. Unlike previous Call of Duty iterations, the devs incentivized players to stick with Modern Warfare 2 through the end. Typically, when a new series entry releases, the previous game’s weapon progression doesn’t carry over. However, Modern Warfare 3 introduces Carry Forward, transferring MW2 weapon progression, operator skins, and weapon blueprints to Modern Warfare 3. With over 55 guns to level up, some players still have plenty of work to do before MW3 releases worldwide on November 10, 2023. Starting on MW3 launch day, players will have access to every MW2 weapon and all of their previous progress. This puts players who never purchased the previous game at a slight disadvantage; a free trial period could have rectified that issue but didn’t. Modern Warfare 2 fans disappointed by free trial Activision announced a Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer free access trial from September 13-20. The trial gives players access to 10 6v6 maps, including the two latest additions in Season 5 Reloaded, and two battle maps. As for game modes, players can experience familiar classics such as TDM, Hardpoint, and SnD, along with newcomers such as Havoc, Invasion, Grind, and many more. The free trial comes with one crucial caveat. Even though it lasts for seven days, players are limited to 2.5 in-game hours. Community members sounded off in the comment section after reading the fine print. Call of Duty leaker TheGhostOfHope responded: “A limit of how long you can play? Odd feature, to be honest.” A second user added: “They’re limiting players to 2.5 hours of match time? This actually might be the dumbest thing I’ve seen COD do in a while.” But maybe that short amount of time is really all players need, as a third commenter joked: “2.5 hours is crazy, but then again, that’s all you need to play this game.” 2.5 hours over a seven-week span doesn’t amount to much, but this might provide the perfect opportunity for some to try Modern Warfare 2 out at least.

Modern Warfare 2 free access explained: How to play multiplayer & Spec Ops missions ActivisionActivision announced a Modern Warfare 2 free access period during Season 2 Reloaded. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming event. Season 2 Reloaded begins on March 15. Modern Warfare 2 receives its first non-remake, or returning 6v6 map, Himmelmatt Expo. Activision moved up the environment’s release date after multiplayer fans slammed an “all-time low” offering of seasonal content. Himmelmatt Expo features a small, abandoned resort on a European mountainside, with snowy outdoor streets and various indoor locales. The mid-season update also adds a new Marksman Rifle called the Tempus Torrent, a Special Ops Raid mission, and three returning party game modes. The MW2 devs decided to open Himmelatt Expo’s doors to everyone for a limited time and give fans a taste of the new Special Ops game mode. Without further ado, let’s jump right into the free access details. When is the Modern Warfare 2 free access event? Modern Warfare 2 finally announces Gun Game for Season 2 – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 finally announces Gun Game for Season 2 ActivisionInfinity Award announced that the classic game mode Gun Game is making a return to Modern Warfare 2 in Season 2. Modern Warfare 2’s second season begins on February 15, featuring Ranked Play and Hardcore mode. Multiplayer fans slammed an “all-time low” offering of seasonal content and criticized the developers for not including Gunfight in Season 2. Infinity Ward got back into fans’ good graces by announcing the classic party game mode Infected is returning in Season 2. The fan-favorite game mode has appeared in nine series entries and always provides a refreshing change of pace. The developers didn’t stop there, confirming another party game mode joining MW2’s lineup. Gun Game coming to Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 On February 7, a CoD player Tweeted, “if CoD drops gun game, I’m making a vid. I love that mode.” Activision responded by confirming Gun Game is coming back on February 15 as part of the Season 2 update. Gun Game first appeared all the way back in Call of Duty: Black Ops. Each player starts with a pistol, and each kill upgrades you to a new weapon, and every melee kill demotes a player one rank. The match ends when someone cycles through all twenty weapons, including a melee, kill at the end. The game mode encourages aggressive gameplay, and its frenetic pace sets it apart from other offerings. One player responded, “Yes, more party games!” A second user added, “Finally, multiplayer is getting the love! Can we please have more news like this, it will make my day!” Community members theorized what other party game modes could make a return. The two most popular suggestions were prop hunt and one in the chamber. “While you guys are at it, add one in the chamber as well.” Both game modes would be excellent additions to Modern Warfare 2, but we will provide an update when we learn more about Season 2’s multiplayer content.

Modern Warfare 2 finally adds permanent 10v10 playlist in Season 4 – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 finally adds permanent 10v10 playlist in Season 4 ActivisionInfinity Ward has revealed that Modern Warfare 2 is finally getting a permanent 10v10 playlist starting in Season 4. Modern Warfare 2 has offered players various game modes and playlists since launch, and some have proven to be much more popular than others. One of the community’s favorite modes ended up being the 10v10 Mosh Pit that was added during Season 2. Much to the chagrin of the player base, however, the playlist was eventually removed from the game. Infinity Ward has confirmed that Season 4 will finally see the introduction of a permanent 10v10 playlist, and fans are very excited. Modern Warfare 2 getting permanent 10v10 playlist Ahead of Activision’s Season 4 blog post, developer Infinity Ward asked fans via Twitter Poll which asked fans what map they’d like to see have a 10v10 playlist later that week. Shoot House took the lead in the poll by a sizable margin, after which Infinity Ward confirmed that a 10v10 Shoot House playlist was now live in game. However, that’s not all the developer confirmed. The tweet also revealed that “10v10 will be joining the Quickplay options with Season 04 next week.” That means that 10v10 will be added as a permanent mode, so players won’t have to worry about a timed 10v10 playlist disappearing after a certain period of time. Alongside this news, Activision also confirmed that fans could expect a Limited Time 12v12 Search & Destroy mode will be available in Season 4, alongside a 12v12 Prisoner Rescue mode. It seems Modern Warfare 2 will be embracing bigger team sizes more than ever in Season 4. While there’s no official word just yet on when the 10v10 Quick Play playlist will make its way to the game, Season 4 launches on June 14, so fans likely won’t have to wait long.

Modern Warfare 2 FC event: Dates, new Operator skins, CoDBall mode, more – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 FC event: Dates, new Operator skins, CoDBall mode, more ActivisionModern Warfare 2’s FC event is almost upon us as the football superstars Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr, and Paul Pogba are all set to join as playable Operators. With new modes as well and plenty more yet to come, here’s everything you need to know. Just a few weeks on from Modern Warfare 2’s launch and Activision is now gearing up for the first major in-game event. Kicking off in the midst of Season 1 is set to be a celebration of football with an FC-themed takeover. That means new Operator skins in three of the sport’s most iconic players, a new mode referred to as ‘CoDBall’, and plenty more still to be announced. So before it all kicks off, be sure to brush up on all there is to know about the MW2 FC event. Modern Warfare 2 FC event: Dates The first of Modern Warfare 2’s new football Operator skins is set to go live on Monday, November 21. While not yet confirmed, it’s obviously a safe bet the FC event goes live in sync with this launch on the very same date. As for an end date, typically in-game events run for at least a fortnight, so we can expect this one to wrap up in early December, just ahead of the Season 1 Reloaded patch. Below is a quick look at when each of the three skins will become available: November 21: Neymar Jr. – November 25: Paul Pogba – November 29: Leo Messi – Modern Warfare 2 FC event: Neymar Jr., Paul Pogba, & Leo Messi skins Three sporting icons are joining the CoD franchise during the Modern Warfare 2 FC event. Neymar Jr., Paul Pogba, and Leo Messi are all set to receive their own custom Operator Skins through the in-game store. Exactly how much they’ll cost and what other bonus rewards they come with remain to be seen however. We’ll be sure to keep you posted right here as soon as the first bundle goes live with further details. CoDBall mode coming to Modern Warfare 2 Beyond a teaser in an earlier blog post, little has been confirmed about the upcoming CoDBall game mode coming to Modern Warfare 2. However, leaked intel suggests we’ll see a Rocket League-inspired playlist wherein, teams drive ATVs in a football stadium, hitting a giant ball toward the opposing goal for a point. It’s unclear how many players will fill either side of the pitch, or whether we’ll see any other vehicles made available in the days to come. But this mode is sure to be just as chaotic as its inspiration, lending to some good times during the FC event in Modern Warfare 2.

Modern Warfare 2 fans stunned by subtle Harry Potter Easter egg on Nova Operator – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 fans stunned by subtle Harry Potter Easter egg on Nova Operator TreyarchModern Warfare 2 fans have only now just noticed a small detail on the Nova Operator that has a direct connection to the Harry Potter franchise. Modern Warfare 2 launched back in October 2022, the latest game including a free-to-play experience in the Warzone 2 overhaul. While the initial reception to the game and the months following brought with it major discourse about in-game bugs and performance issues aplenty, most of the dust has seemingly settled on the new CoD game. However, gamers are still finding new and interesting details, some that even include a collision of two major franchises. One eagle-eyed Modern Warfare 2 player pointed out on Reddit that Nova has a Deathly Hallows tattoo on her left arm. For those who aren’t well versed in the Harry Potter universe, the Deathly Hallows symbol is one of the most iconic things within the franchise. Nila Brown, also known as Nova, is an Operator of the SpecGru faction within Modern Warfare 2. Other Reddit users commented on the thread that it is a “cool find” and that, after having seen this detail, they can confirm that “she can’t run through brick walls near the train station. I tried.” The items themselves in Harry Potter serve as the driving force for the movies and for the defeat of Voldermort. The symbol has now become a very popular tattoo amongst fans of the series. Further investigation shows that the tattoo design and placement is actually from the real-life model for Nova, who can be seen sporting the exact tattoo. However, it is unclear if this Harry Potter symbol was deliberately left on for the in-game character or if it was an oversight from the Modern Warfare 2 dev team. Regardless, it’s an interesting collision of two big pop culture franchises and one that seems especially timely with the upcoming release of Hogwarts Legacy. For all the latest gaming news and content, be sure to check out Dexerto’s full coverage here.

Modern Warfare 2 fans fear Operators Soap & Ghost locked behind paywall – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 fans fear Operators Soap & Ghost locked behind paywall ActivisionActivision revealed Modern Warfare 2’s first 23 Operators, but fans fear a few fan favorites are locked behind a paywall. As Modern Warfare 2’s release date fastly approaches, Activision is slowly drip-feeding information to fans. On October 18, the developers confirmed two classic maps coming during Season 1, a release date for Raids, and Twitch drops. Not all of the announcements hit their mark. MW2 features a Seasonal Prestige system instead of the classic Prestige Level system. Players blasted the decision that, in the opinion of some, makes ranking up “pointless.” Fans read between the lines of the announcements and fear fan-favorite Operators such as Soap and Ghost won’t be available to everyone. How do Operators work in Modern Warfare 2? MW2 launches with 23 Operators, split between SpeccGru and Kortac. Players start with generic “Mil-Sim” operators for each faction. In the launch blog, Activision stated, “Eighteen more operators can be unlocked through Campaign, Multiplayer, and Special Ops challenges to be detailed as part of our progression overview later this month.” The developers continued, “Price, Farah, Soap, and Ghost Operators are available via the Vault Edition’s Red Team 141 pack.” Fans inferred that explicitly stating “Operators are available” instead of skins means that Price, Farah, Soap, and Ghost can only be unlocked through the Red Team 141 pack. There are two different editions of MW2, the Standard Edition and Vault Editon. Priced at $109.99, the Vault Edition offers the Red Team 141 Operator pack and other exclusives. The Operator Pack includes Ghost, Soap, Farah, and Price. Activision did not mention any other unlock method for the four Operators besides purchasing the Vault Edition.

Modern Warfare 2 fans demand refund after LA Thieves CDL skin nerf – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 fans demand refund after LA Thieves CDL skin nerf ActivisionModern Warfare 2 fans demanded a refund for the LA Thieves CDL skin after the developers altered the operator. Call of Duty games have added plenty of cosmetic skins, but possibly none more controversial than Roze. Modern Warfare 2019’s Roze operator bundle drew criticism because of the character’s all-black outfits. Players argued it was a nightmare to locate her in the jungles of Caldera. Fans experienced a nasty deja vu case when the LA Thieves released its CDL Pack operator skin. The operator dawns an all-black suit with red LA letters on the front. Community members flocked to the store, labeling it “Roze 2.0.” However, some fans argued the LA Thieves skin is not as overpowered as the original. Activision disagreed, adding bright red shoulder straps and goggles to the Operator over a week after the skin’s release. Modern Warfare 2 players demanded a refund for purchasing a different product initially. Modern Warfare 2 fans feel deceived by LA Thieves operator change On December 9, CharlieINTEL reported Activision nerfed the LA Thieves skin by adding a brighter red color to the gear. The Operator skin was initially released with an all-black design on November 29, prompting players to demand a refund. CharlieINTEL shot down any hopes of a refund, stating, “No refunds will happen. Activision has a legal note in all microtransactions saying they can change products any time.” Despite knowing it was a futile effort, fans flooded the comment section with complaints. ModernWarzone owner DougDagnabbit, responded, “Are they gonna give refunds or what?” A second user added, “I feel like this is deliberate. They knew people would buy, so it’s pretty much a money grab. Pretty pathetic, but at least it’s still the best-looking CDL skin. One user made a clever analogy, “It’s like you went to the mall and picked out a sweater you liked, bought it, then two weeks later someone magically changed the color of it in your closet.” It remains to be seen if players are given refunds for purchasing the operator skin, but we will provide an update if possible.

Modern Warfare 2 exploit gives players unlimited Tactical Sprint – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 exploit gives players unlimited Tactical Sprint ActivisionIt didn’t take long for Modern Warfare 2 players to discover an exploit, allowing an unlimited Tactical Sprint. Movement is a controversial issue within the Call of Duty community. Slide canceling became an essential mechanic for players traversing faster around maps and getting a leg up in engagements. However, Modern Warfare 2 removed the feature, or so we thought. CDL pro-Shotzzy discovered a way to slide cancel in MW2 during the Beta. Infinity Ward swiftly responded by “further refining” sliding and addressing “some movement exploits.” Unfortunately, an exploit slipped through the cracks, transforming Operators into Olympic runners. Modern Warfare 2 players discover Tactical Sprint exploit Modern Warfare 2019 introduced Tactical Sprinting, which allows a short burst of speed that sees your Operator run faster than a normal sprint. However, the movement mechanic raises your weapon in the air making it slower to aim down sight. Slide canceling was effective because it reset a player’s Tactical Sprint, making it easier to travel longer distances, perfect for Warzone or Ground War. Reddit user TheRealPdGaming claimed former professional CoD player ‘Apathy’ showed him a new method of resetting the Tactical Sprint. By meleeing at the end of a Tactical Sprint, it forces a rest, allowing you to run again immediately. Slide canceling worked very similarly, but you slid instead of using melee. One user responded, “This is definitely an exploit that will get patched.” A second player added, “if pros run around looking dumb punching while running, I don’t think I can watch a full year.” We will provide an update if the exploit is addressed.

Modern Warfare 2 expert reveals which “hard-hitting” weapon has fastest TTK – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 expert reveals which “hard-hitting” weapon has fastest TTK ActivisonModern Warfare 2 guru WhosImmortal has revealed which “hard-hitting” weapon has the fastest TTK in the game and wipes out enemies in an instant. When choosing a weapon to use in Modern Warfare 2, it’s important to consider recoil, ADS time, mobility, and even mag size. However, for the majority of players, the deciding factor will always be TTK as it gives you the best chance at outgunning your opponents. Of course, you could experiment with all the weapons to determine which one outputs the most damage, or you could let an expert do the thinking for you. Luckily, MW2 expert WhosImmortal has unveiled which gun has the fastest TTK in the game, and he’s even provided a top-tier loadout. Best Lachmann 762 loadout in Modern Warfare 2 Attachments Barrel: 15.9″ Lachmann Rapp Barrel – Laser: FSS OLE-V Laser – Optic: VLK 4.0 Optic – Stock: Lachmann S9 Factory – Rear Grip: LMK64 Grip – For a lot of players, a semi-auto weapon is an immediate write-off that they won’t consider using, as missing shots with these options can be extremely punishing. However, WhosImmortal has revealed that the “hard-hitting” Lachmann 762 has one of the fastest TTKs in the game and it’s definitely a gun you should be equipping. This battle rifle can kill enemies with one to two bullets making it almost impossible for opponents to fight back. Not only that, its lethality at medium to long-range gives you the option to pick off foes from afar. The build above aims to maximize the rifle’s damage, while also improving its mobility and ADS time, giving you the best chance at getting the first shot off on an enemy. Topic starts at 7:26 Keep in mind, this gun may take some practice to master as you don’t have the option to spray offered by fully automatic weapons. However, if you’re precise with your shots, there’s very little an opponent can do to counter your damage. So, if you’re struggling to rack up kills in multiplayer, consider testing it out in one of your matches – it could become your new go-to weapon.

Modern Warfare 2 expert reveals top AR loadout to dominate Season 3 – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 expert reveals top AR loadout to dominate Season 3 ActivisionSeason 3 slightly reconfigured the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer meta, and WhosImmortal revealed his favorite AR post-update. Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 buffed and nerfed weapons universally across multiplayer and battle royale. However, both experiences have their own unique meta due to different gameplay styles. MW2 maps are smaller, and players mostly engage in short-to medium-range gunfights. Warzone 2, on the other hand, features extremely long engagements and a mix of every other type of fight. With that in mind, players must build different loadouts to suit which game they are playing. WhosImmortal claims the Kastov-74u is the current king of multiplayer due to its dominance in short and mid-range engagements. WhosImmortal reveals his favorite MW2 multiplayer weapon According to WZRanked, The TAQ-56, and Vaznev-9K are far and away the most selected weapons in multiplayer, while the Kastov-74u is only picked 2.3% of the time. Despite flying under the radar and not receiving any buffs recently, WhosImmortal believes the underrated AR deserves more love. WhosImmortal explained why he considers the Kastov-74u the “number one” gun in multiplayer and one of his favorite weapons to use. “The 74-U is good at mid-range, really good in the close-range. It has the mobility of an SMG but the power of a rifle.” The YouTuber elaborated: “It’s the best of both worlds, this thing is a beast, and I love it. It’s such a fun weapon to use” Best Kastov-74u Modern Warfare 2 loadout Here is WhosImmortal’s full Kastov-74u loadout with attachment tuning included. Rear Grip: True Tac Grip (+0.74, -0.38) – Stock: Markeev R7 Stock (-1.42, -1.16) – Laser: FSS OLE-V-Laser (-0.29, -27.97) – Barrel: BR209 Barrel (+0.31, -0.25) – Muzzle: FTAC Castle Comp (+0.44, +0.21) – This loadout focuses on maximizing the weapon’s mobility while still accounting for a slightly difficult-to-control recoil. WhosImmortal concluded: “This thing is going to fly, and it’s going to fry in every sense of that phrase.” Players should feel comfortable wielding this weapon in just about any engagement during an MW2 multiplayer match.

Modern Warfare 2 expert reveals simple tricks to improve in Ranked Play – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 expert reveals simple tricks to improve in Ranked Play ActivisionThe LA Guerrillas revealed three mistakes holding players back from playing at their best in Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play. Season 3 marked the beginning of a new Ranked Play season in Modern Warfare 2. Competitors moved back one division and need to fight their way back up to the top of the leaderboards. Professional Call of Duty League players poured countless hours into the game mode when it first launched, but most have shifted their focus to the final stretch of the CDL season. Only four CDL pros currently hold a spot in the Top 250, which may finally present an opportunity for casual players to reach the mountaintop. With that in mind, it would be a mistake not to take advantage of all the tools at your disposal in order to get a leg up on the competition. The LA Guerillas TikToker revealed a few simple tricks to elevate your game in MW2 Ranked Play. Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play tricks revealed The LA Guerillas TikToker claimed: “Three things are holding you back in Ranked Play.” First, the TikToker urged players to stop using 120 FOV because: “it makes enemies too small. You need to use 105 because it makes recoil easier to control, plus you get more aim assist.” To elaborate, having a high FOV makes the image squish more towards the center and pushes the frontal view outwards, making things in front of you appear further away. This makes aim assist appear weaker since the movement is calculated slower. A wider FOV reduces the aim assist hitbox, so narrowing in makes the assist stronger and more forgiving on less accurate shots. Next, the TikToker recommended players “stutter aim.” If you aim down sight too long, the weapon starts to sway back and forth, so rapidly aiming in and out reduces gun sway, which should result in a more accurate first shot. And finally, players should pull down on their left stick to maximize the help from aim assist. If you move the left stick while aiming down sights, the aim assist locks onto enemies easier. JGOD gave a full rundown on how aim assist works in MW2 for a more thorough explanation. Try these tricks if it’s turned into a slog attempting to improve your Skill Rating in Ranked Play.

Modern Warfare 2 expert reveals setting change that makes aim assist stronger – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 expert reveals setting change that makes aim assist stronger Activision BlizzardSome Modern Warfare 2 players believe aim assist is too strong, and the New York Subliners TikTok discovered how to make it even more powerful in Ranked Play. Aim assist has been a controversial topic in MW2 and Warzone 2. The mechanic works by slowing down the user’s aim when looking near a target while using a controller. CoD YouTuber JGOD urged the developers to nerf aim assist because it removes skill from the game. Infinity Ward’s co-studio head Patrick Kelly admitted the improvements to aim assist have helped controller players but left the average mouse player “at a disadvantage statistically.” JGOD doesn’t expect the developers to nerf the mechanic, and the New York Subliners actually unearthed a way to make it stronger in multiplayer. What are the best FOV settings in Modern Warfare 2? The New York Subliners claimed players are missing more shots in Modern Warfare 2 than they should by not making a simple setting change. A FOV slider allows players to adjust their field of view to be more zoomed in or out. A wider FOV makes it easier to spot enemies players may have missed otherwise. In Warzone 2, it makes more sense to have a larger FOV as the environment is bigger. The New York Subliners argued it’s different in multiplayer. “When playing Warzone 2, everyone knows your FOV should be set to 120. But did you know this makes aim assist less effective and makes enemies appear a little further away?” “In Multiplayer, there is a much smaller area of play, meaning you don’t need that super wide FOV.” The TikToker recommends changing the Modern Warfare 2 FOV to 100 instead “to have an easier time beaming opponents and increase the strength of aim assist.” Having high FOV makes the image squish more towards the center and pushes the frontal view outwards, making things in front of you appear further away. This plus aim assist appears weaker since the movement is calculated slower. A wider FOV makes the aim assist hitbox smaller. Narrowing in makes aim assist stronger and more forgiving. Try this setting if you are missing too many shots in Modern Warfare 2.

Modern Warfare 2 expert reveals Season 3 will include a classic map remake – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 expert reveals Season 3 will include a classic map remake Infinity WardModern Warfare 2 YouTuber FaZe Dirty participated in a Season 3 playtest, revealing a classic CoD map will finally receive its first multiplayer remake. Each CoD title typically includes a few classic map remakes. Modern Warfare 2 already dove into a deep pool of classic environments adding Shipment and Shoothouse in multiplayer. Warzone 2 followed suit, implanting a few POIs inspired by classic CoD maps, such as Quarry, Dome, and Showdown. There have already been seven map remakes from Modern Warfare 2 (2009) in other titles, yet a few classic environments are long overdue for a revisit. Infinity Ward showed some love to the original MW2 by bringing back a beloved map for Season 3. Estate is coming to Modern Warfare 2 in Season 3 Activision invited FaZe Dirty to a Season 3 playtest. He got his hands on the new Intervention sniper, the FJX Imperium, and also got to play the new Season 3 map, Pelayo’s Lighthouse. Dirty followed up Activision’s announcement video by sharing his experience on YouTube. After showing off FJX Imperium gameplay, he briefly gave fans a sneak peek of a familiar location. The YouTuber walked through a house on Pelayo’s Lighthouse straight from the MW2 (2009) map Estate. Estate is a medium-sized multiplayer map based around a cabin on top of a hill in the woods. Most action occurs in and around the large house, but a few other buildings are scattered at the bottom of the hill and a boathouse. The map plays much differently than a standard three-lane CoD offering, but community members thoroughly enjoyed the environment’s unique layout. Dirty claimed Pelayo’s Lighthouse “has a couple of long lanes perfect for sniping” and acknowledged that taking advantage of spawn traps on the new map should be fun. We don’t know for sure if this is a full remake or just one location from Estate, but fans will be excited nonetheless. Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 begins on April 12.

Modern Warfare 2 expert reveals how to buy two skins for the price of one – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 expert reveals how to buy two skins for the price of one ActivisionThe LA Guerillas TikTok revealed a simple trick to buy two operator bundles for the price of one in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. Buying cosmetic items in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone draws criticism. Warzone Caldera servers are set to shut down on September 21, 2023, meaning community members will lose access to their collection of weapon and operator skins over a two-year window. Out of fear of going through a similar painful experience in Warzone 2, a few COD players launched a boycott to stop purchasing cosmetic items. Activision caught wind of the growing fear among community members and reassured players that their cosmetic items will carry over to the next title. The announcement fell on deaf ears as questions arose about why Activision would withhold that information for over a year. For those that do enjoy purchasing a cosmetic item every now and then, the LA Guerillas unearthed a simple money-saving trick. How to purchase two Modern Warfare 2 operator skins for the price of one The LA Guerillas urged players to stop buying cosmetic items from the store until they take advantage of a simple trick that offers the most bang for their buck. There are currently three operator bundles in the MW2 store that players have been willing to pull out their wallets for. Izzy, along with Homelander and Black Noir from The Boys all cost $20 or 2400 COD Points. However, if players purchase the Graffiti Tactical bundle for $20 or 2400 COD Points, the bundle awards an additional 2400 COD Points. Players can use that surplus of COD Points to buy one of the three previously mentioned operator bundles. And they also get the added benefit of a Subway Surfer-themed operator and two graffiti-painted SMG weapon blueprints from the Graffiti Tactical bundle. So the next time you are considering purchasing an operator bundle in Modern Warfare 2, check to see if the Graffiti Tactical bundle is available first.

Modern Warfare 2 expert reveals fast Polyatomic camo unlock method – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 expert reveals fast Polyatomic camo unlock method ActivisionAs Modern Warfare 2 players push towards unlocking Polyatomic camo, The LA Guerillas TikTok account has provided the perfect unlock method. Modern Warfare 2 reinstated a 24/7 Shoot House on January 11, replacing Shipment, and community members bashed the “infuriating” decision. Players weren’t quite ready to bid farewell to non-stop Shipment, but Shoot House offers the perfect headshot hunting environment. The map is full of head glitch locations, perfect for picking off enemies. Camo unlocking operates differently in MW2, with the game featuring Base Camo and Mastery camo challenges. After gaining access to Gold and Platinum, unlocking Polyatomic requires 25 headshots on each weapon. The LA Guerillas TikTok revealed two tips and one secret method for unlocking Polyatomic faster. How to unlock Polyatomic Camo fast in MW2 The LA Guerillas claimed, “objective game modes make close-range fights hard. In free for all, respawns are random, so most fights are at close range. Headshots are easier the closer you are.” Objective game modes utilize a squad spawn system, and players spawn directly on their teammates. Free for all throws players right into the fire with random spawns, which can be both dangerous and rewarding. Double Time doubles the time of your tactical sprint, so the TikToker recommends using the perk to get into gunfights faster. When players get shot in MW2, a flinch causes the user’s weapon to sway up and down. Focus reduces flinch while getting shot and allows players to line up headshots better. Scavenger grants players the ability to get more ammo from dead enemies, and Quick Fix heals players faster, rounding out the LA Guerillas’ recommended perks. “practice makes progress.” The LA Guerillas suggested going into a private match on Shoot House with headshots only and training your muscle memory so headshot kills become routine. Give these tips a try for yourself if you want to make the painstaking camo grinding process easier.

Modern Warfare 2 expert reveals best perk after Season 3 buff – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 expert reveals best perk after Season 3 buff ActivisionChoosing the perfect perks in Modern Warfare 2 typically boils down to personal preference and playstyle, but the LA Guerillas TikTok revealed its favorite combo for Season 3. Modern Warfare 2 redesigned perks, featuring perk packages, which grant two base perks, one bonus, and one ultimate. Base perks are active at the start of a match, while bonus perks activate after four minutes, and ultimate perks deploy eight minutes into a game. For every ten points, one second gets shaved off the timer, so the more you kill and play, the quicker you can activate the Bonus and Ultimate perks. MW2 players slammed the “horrible” new system, questioning the need for time gates. Looking past the system’s inferred flaws, high alert and quick fix are arguably the two most popular ultimate perks. However, the Season 3 update buffed Ghost, making it a compelling choice once again. Is Ghost the best perk in Modern Warfare 2? The LA Guerillas TikTok explained why Ghost is a must-use perk in Season 3. “Before Season 3, suppressors made Ghost useless.” If you shot with Ghost equipped, you still showed up on the mini-map.” “But now, with Ghost and a silencer, you will never appear on the radar.” The TikToker recommended pairing both tools with the Cold Blooded perk, which makes you invisible to lethal streaks, heartbeat sensors, and portable radars. Double Time and Tracker complete the perk package, doubling the duration of tactical sprinting and allowing players to track the footprints of enemies. The LA Guerillas claimed this perk package will make you feel like a hunter, silently tracking enemies around the map, with no way of risk of getting snuffed out. This combo will be especially useful on the new MW2 multiplayer map Pelayo’s Lighthouse, thanks to its rainy and dark environment. Using Ghost is also a viable option in Warzone 2 as protection from UAVs and buffed heartbeat sensors will come in handy.

Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 is well underway and the community is enjoying all the new content that arrived in the major update. While you could test out all the weapons yourself and experiment with a variety of different builds, sometimes it’s easier to let an expert do the thinking for you. Well, luckily, after evaluating all the choices, MW2 guru WhosImmortal has showcased which gun is top-tier in the current meta, and is perfect for racking up kills in multiplayer. Best ISO Hemlock loadout in Modern Warfare 2 Attachments Muzzle: Sakin Tread-40 – Underbarrel: Edge-47 Grip – Optic: Cronen Mini Pro – Ammunition: 5.56 High Velocity – Rear Grip: XTEN Grip – WhosImmortal’s number one pick for MW2 multiplayer is the new ISO Hemlock AR, just beating out the TAQ-56 although both guns are extremely similar. For him, the ISO Hemlock has got the “TTK stats, it’s got the range, it’s got the mobility… it’s just checking all the boxes” for a top-tier weapon. Tearing up multiplayer is all about having a “consistent” and “reliable” weapon that performs in every game, and this AR is exactly that. The loadout focuses on pushing the Hemlock’s damage output to the max, while also adding a strong level of mobility for minimal recoil. Topic starts at 12:54 While WhosImmortal does run the Cronen Mini Pro optic because he dislikes the iron sight, he makes it clear you can replace this with a laser if you’d prefer. Doing so will make the gun a little more snappy in close-quarter gunfights with the reduced ADS time, but this all comes down to preference. So, if you’re looking for the number one MW2 loadout in the current meta, this is the gun and setup to use.

Modern Warfare 2 expert reveals best AR for multiplayer – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 expert reveals best AR for multiplayer ActivisionCoD content creator ‘TheKoreanSavage’ revealed his favorite Chimera loadout and explained why it’s the best AR to use in multiplayer. Longtime CoD series veterans will be familiar with the Honey Badger. The assault rifle first appeared in CoD Ghosts and was arguably the game’s best weapon. After seven years of waiting, the Honey Badger made a triumphant return in Modern Warfare 2019. The cult favorite AR shines in short to medium-range combat, but its damage range severely drops off in longer engagements. Even though it is harder to hit enemies far away, an easily controllable recoil makes the AR approachable for any player. Modern Warfare 2 reintroduced the Honey Badger in the Season 1 Reloaded update and renamed it the Chimera. The versatile AR has the potential to be a top-tier choice with the right attachments, so make sure to check out our guide on how to unlock the weapon first. TheKoreanSavage claims the Chimera is the best AR in Modern Warfare 2 TheKoreanSavage revealed his favorite Chimera loadout in his latest YouTube video. The Honey Badger has traditionally had an integral suppressor built into the weapon, but the Chimera can be used without a suppressor. “I didn’t know you could take off the silencer for the Chimera, and this changes the game,” he said. “It adds so much flexibility to this class setup.” The YouTuber dropped 132 kills using his recommended loadout in a match on Shipment. Here is TheKoreanSavage’s Chimera loadout with tuning included for attachments. Barrel: 10″ SA Phoenix (0.16 Weight, -0.13 Length) – Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56 (0.44 Weight, 0.09 Length) – Laser: VLK LZR 7MW – Optic: Slimline Pro (-2.32 Weight, -2.25 Eye Position) – Magazine: 45 Round Magazine – TheKoreanSavage added that this weapon doesn’t need a Stock or Rear Grip because “this gun literally had no recoil itself.” He said you could replace the laser with a silencer if you want increased bullet velocity or damage range, but the increased ADS speed suits the Chimera better. Unlock this nostalgic AR for yourself and take his loadout on a test drive.

Modern Warfare 2 expert exposes “serious” UAV bug in multiplayer – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 expert exposes “serious” UAV bug in multiplayer ActivisionModern Warfare 2 expert, TheXclusiveAce, discovered a game-breaking UAV bug after the Season 4 update and explained why it’s a serious issue. Modern Warfare 2 controversially removed red dots from the minimap during multiplayer matches unless a UAV is active. In previous COD titles, a red dot would reveal an enemy’s location if they fired an unsuppressed weapon. Community members slammed the decision, but Infinity Ward stood by it and claimed they didn’t “want to punish players for firing their weapons.” The devs also wanted players to be more reactive instead of just chasing red dots for an entire match. An over-reliance on UAVs for intel has proven to be a major issue in Season 4, as a bug prevents them from functioning properly. UAV bug plagues Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer matches The XclusiveAce explained how UAVs are broken in Season 4. Only Advanced UAVs can track an enemy’s movement in real-time as they move around the map, but a bug also allows standard UAVs to do the same. This is an issue because it only takes three kills to get a standard UAV, but 12 for an Advanced UAV. To make matters worse, the bug is inconsistent and randomly appears. “It turns out this bug is worse than I thought because it’s just inconsistent. It doesn’t apply to every match, and I can’t determine whether or not the UAV is broken or not in a match.” TheXclusiveAce discovered three different UAV patterns, and each one did not work properly. The UAV is supposed just to show a brief snapshot of an enemy’s location, but each match seems to break the kill streak in a unique fashion. “As of right now, this is the most serious issue plaguing Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer and needs to be fixed.” The YouTuber’s biggest gripe is that he has no way of even knowing if a UAV is working properly or if other players get an advantage with the tracking UAV. Without an official fix, the best players can do for now is equip the Ghost perk to go undetected by UAVs. For more, check out the rest of our MW2 coverage.

Modern Warfare 2 expert explains why you are probably using grips wrong – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 expert explains why you are probably using grips wrong ActivisionWith over 20 underbarrel attachments to choose from in Modern Warfare 2, an LA Guerillas TikTok has revealed a secret for choosing the right one. Modern Warfare 2 revamped Modern Warfare 2019’s Gunsmith system. Players equip five different attachments at a time for eight possible attachment slots and can tune attachments for an added layer of personalization. An abundance of customization options may be overwhelming, but players should always focus on alleviating recoil. Recoil refers to the amount your gun moves when you fire. Eliminating recoil makes it easier to fire at enemies further away. Each weapon has its own recoil pattern and understanding each one will go a long way in improving your loadout-building skills. LA Guerillas share Modern Warfare 2 weapon attachment trick With the help of JGOD and TheXclusiveAce, the LA Guerillas revealed an easy method for figuring out the right underbarrel attachment on a weapon. The TikToker claimed angled grips help with horizontal recoil, and vertical grips help with overall recoil. Next, players can go to the shooting range with the weapon they want to use and fire at the door. If you fire at the door and the recoil is more horizontal than vertical, the TikToker recommends using an angled grip. If the recoil is wilder, players should use a vertical grip. Here is a list of the best Vertical and Angled grips in Modern Warfare 2, as recommended by the LA Guerillas. Vertical Grips Merc Foregrip – Hex-40 Grip – VX Pineapple – Lockgrip Precision – Angled Grips Edge-47 Grip – Demo Imp-44 Grip – Commando Foregrip – For an even more in-depth comparison of attachments, sym.gg provides ADS speed, view kick, and gun kick recoil for each underbarrel attachment. Get in the shooting range, and figure out what grip best suits your favorite weapon in Modern Warfare 2.

Modern Warfare 2 expert claims “one-tap” shotgun dominates close-range – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 expert claims “one-tap” shotgun dominates close-range ActivisonModern Warfare 2 guru WhosImmortal has unveiled a shotgun that instantly eliminates foes at close-range, making it the perfect “one-tap” weapon. For close-quarter engagements in Modern Warfare 2, the majority of players gravitate towards SMGs as they provide the perfect balance of mobility and damage. Options like the Fennec, Vaznev, and Lachmann Sub are all meta guns that melt foes in an instant, but there is another choice if you’re looking to one-shot opponents. We’re of course talking about shotguns and according to WhosImmortal there’s one, in particular, that’s well worth testing out in your matches. Capable of “one-tapping” opponents and wiping them out before they can even react, this is the perfect setup for aggressive players who aren’t afraid of getting into the thick of the action. Best Lockwood 300 loadout in Modern Warfare 2 Attachments Muzzle: XTEN V1.3 Choke – Laser: VLK LZR 7MW – Ammunition: 12 Gauge Slug – Guard: Buck-Pro – Stock: Heist Stock Mod – When showcasing the best close-range meta weapons in a recent video, WhosImmortal decided to highlight the powerful Lockwood 300. Describing the shotgun as an “absolute beast”, the weapon makes it easy to “one-tap” enemies at close-range, especially if you’re running around the map. With an impressive amount of mobility and more than enough damage, this gun thrives in the hands of a player who is looking to hunt down their foes. The goal of the loadout above is to one-shot kill opponents by extending the Lockwood’s damage range and utilizing the power of the 12 Guage Slug. Topic starts 5:22 This shotgun does require a lot of precision, but if you can land your bullets, then it’s lights out for your opponents. WhosImmortal even acknowledges himself that this is an extremely “annoying” gun to play against, but if you’re looking to rack up kills, it’s an ideal class setup.

Modern Warfare 2 embraces NPC trend with odd weapon bundle – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 embraces NPC trend with odd weapon bundle ActivisionNPC live streams have taken over TikTok, and Modern Warfare 2 embraced the confusing trend with a new weapon bundle. Understanding social media’s latest trend starts by understanding video game NPCs. Non-playable characters regurgitate scripted lines to help a world feel more lived in – to varying degrees of success as seen in the latest big releases. For example, an industry veteran provided insight into the creepy facial expressions of Starfield’s NPCs. Streamers emulate the characteristics of video game NPCs through repetitive actions and dialogue. Pinkydoll emerged as one of the most popular streamers, spending hours on camera repeating phrases like “ice cream so good” or “gang gang.” In Season 5, Activision introduced Battle Buddy, a virtual assistant that acts as a mini-announcer during Warzone and Modern Warfare 2 matches. Several different types of voices have been used, the latest being a nod to NPC streamers. Modern Warfare 2 players stunned by new NPC bundle On September 12, Warzone streamer WhosImmortal asked: “What is this new NPC Warzone bundle?” The 1600-COD point Modern Warfare 2 bundle comes with a Battle Buddy that repeats lines like “Let’s go kill yeah yeah,” and “Ooh battlesuit time gang gang.” COD community members couldn’t believe their ears, as they responded with a mix of horror but also interest. Several Modern Warfare 2 players joked that they won’t purchase the bundle because it doesn’t include “glizzy overdrive.” This refers to a social media content creator who livestreams eating hot dogs in an overtly sexual manner when viewers donate with a hot dog emoji. WhosImmortal responded: “No glizzy overdrive, no purchase from me.” A second user semi-seriously added that NPC streamer Pinkydoll should receive royalty payments with the comment: “They better be paying her.” Going against the general consensus, a third commenter claimed: “Not going to lie, I kind of love this.” This will definitely go down as one of the oddest store bundles in Modern Warfare 2, but shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise given Activison’s recent lean on pop culture crossovers.

Modern Warfare 2 DOOM bundle finds new use for low FPS – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 DOOM bundle finds new use for low FPS ActivisionLow frames-per-second in a first-person shooter usually spells trouble, but Modern Warfare 2 managed to turn that perception on its head with its DOOM crossover. Modern Warfare 2 Season 6 puts a heavy emphasis on licensed collaborations. Todd McFarlane teamed up with Call of Duty to bring his iconic superhero Spawn to the Battle Pass. Players can also deploy as the likes of Ash Williams, Skeletor, and even Hellsing’s Alucard. Activision also took this opportunity to dive into its own bag of IPs for unlikely worlds colliding. As part of the upcoming Haunting event, MW2 players can take on Diablo 4’s mini-boss Butcher or even deploy as Lilith or Inarius in Warzone. But in arguably the most ambitious experiment, the Modern Warfare 2 devs attempted to combine two different eras of gaming. Modern Warfare 2 DOOM bundle stuns players CharlieIntel showed early gameplay footage of the DOOM bundle shotgun coming to Modern Warfare 2 on October 9. The bundle somehow manages to capture the old-school look of DOOM from the 90s and uses low FPS as an effect rather than a hindrance. Footage of the low FPS in action may be a little jarring at first, but community members gave the devs their flowers for the incredible attention to detail. Modern Warfare 2’s trace bundle also includes a chainsaw, but how that weapon will look and act in-game remains to be seen. YouTube streamer Myth responded: “This looks fantastic. Whoever worked in this should be insanely proud.” Meanwhile, the LA Thieves Call of Duty League account added: “Ok, that’s heat.” “Ok, this is fkn incredible. THIS is the kind of effort we like to see put into bundles and collabs,” a third commenter claimed. It’s unclear if this bundle will end up providing any sort of advantage or disadvantage in-game, but fans will get a better idea when the bundle finally goes live in stores.

Modern Warfare 2 “dolphin hop” puts slide cancelling to shame – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 “dolphin hop” puts slide cancelling to shame Infinity WardThe removal of slide cancelling from Modern Warfare 2 has spurred the best and most creative members of the CoD community to come up with something new, and the “turbo hop” is a movement technique that puts the slide cancel to shame. Mobility has been a pivotal part of the latest games in the Call of Duty series. The engine that was introduced with Modern Warfare (2019) allowed for slide canceling, movement tech that went on to take over Modern Warfare for that year, Warzone, and subsequently Vanguard. Having become a series mainstay, the (attempted) removal of this movement mechanic in Modern Warfare 2 (2022) has left a hole that the CoD elite have tried to fill. Those looking for more skill expression at high levels of play have been trying everything they can to find new movement tech. A month after Modern Warfare 2’s launch, some new, game-breaking movement tech has been discovered. Modern Warfare 2 “dolphin hop” is breaking the speed limit The first public displays of this movement tech that caught on were from Meishu and Entervene. And, while the name for this technique is still up in the air, it’s been called the “turbo hop,” “t-hop,” and “dolphin hop” so far. MW2 players have figured out that you can dolphin dive into a climbable ledge in just the right way; you can mount it and maintain your momentum through the slide. This allows players to shoot at dolphin dive speeds while in midair. It isn’t as easy as it looks to pull off, but this dolphin hop technique is incredibly effective on certain maps. Jake Lucky compiled clips from both of the aforementioned players that shows off what they’re capable of doing with this movement tech. To properly do a dolphin hop, you have to hit a very specific sweet spot on a ledge. Try to think about diving in a way where the tip of your character model’s toes will touch a ledge. When you try to mount from there, it’ll propel you forward while remaining upright, allowing you to shoot midair. With a bit of practice, it’s possible to replicate this technique consistently. Whether or not Infinity Ward attempts to patch this out remains to be seen.

Modern Warfare 2 devs warn players against changing location to access game early – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 devs warn players against changing location to access game early ActivisionModern Warfare 2 developers Infinity Ward have warned players against digitally changing their location to unlock the game early, saying it will affect connectivity and match quality. Modern Warfare 2 fans are gearing up for the game’s global launch, with the full game finally set to join the early access Campaign and go live on October 28. Naturally, fans are impatient and want to get their hands on the 2022 Call of Duty installment as soon as possible. One method wily players use to access titles before their official release is to change their console or PC location to New Zealand. Doing so typically unlocks a game as soon as the date changes in New Zealand, despite the fact their real location may be twelve or so hours behind. It has become a fairly well-known trick, with FIFA 23 players seeking to do the same when the football simulation dropped. However, developers Infinity Ward have now issued a warning to players who try to digitally alter their location and access the game early. Infinity Ward issue warning to MW2 players changing location In an October 27 tweet, the developers put out a “Launch Public Service Announcement”, saying that digitally altering location to unlock the game early would result in serious problems for players. They said: “Launch PSA: If you are trying to change your console’s region setting in order to access MWII early, you will experience connectivity issues and may be locked out of the game until the official launch time of your region.” In short, players shouldn’t try the trick to get on the servers before their region officially receives the title. It’s bad news for players in the US and South America, who are naturally left waiting longer. However, Infinity Ward’s position is understandable as they likely want to stagger players joining the servers and gradually increase Modern Warfare 2’s player count to avoid major launch issues. While it’s frustrating, MWII’s expected two-year life cycle means that, in the grand scheme of things, twelve hours or so won’t matter in the long run.

Modern Warfare 2 devs tease return of a classic map CDL pros tested ahead of launch – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 devs tease return of a classic map CDL pros tested ahead of launch ActivisionModern Warfare 2 developers teased in our recent interview that one particular fan-favorite Call of Duty map is on its way back to the spotlight and one that pro players already tested it out months ago. With the launch of Modern Warfare 2 last October, CoD fans got to explore 10 brand new maps never before seen in the iconic FPS franchise. Some have certainly gone down better than others, but through all the feedback, devs have continued rolling out more and more fresh locations. Season 1 saw the return of Shipment alongside Modern Warfare 2019’s Shoot House. Season 2 saw the reintroduction of Valderas Museum following some legal issues, along with the return of Dome and a new locale in the Himmelmatt Expo. Most recently, Season 3 brought with it Alboran Hatchery, Black Gold, and Pelayo’s Lighthouse, all as standard 6v6 multiplayer maps. So with a mix of classics back in rotation, revamped layouts in focus for a new generation of players, and entirely original layouts to top it off, we spoke with two senior devs at Infinity Ward to find out how they strike a balance while keeping all sides of the community satisfied. In their response, they shared a subtle teaser on what fans can expect from one particular addition in the near future. “We’re bringing an older one back that some CDL guys, they really liked when they were at our office. We pivoted around and that’s coming pretty soon,” Multiplayer Design Director Geoff Smith told us. Now exactly what this map might be, we couldn’t quite get them to spill the beans. But given the comment, it’s safe to assume fans won’t have to wait all too long to find out. Given Season 4 is just around the corner, set to kick off on June 14, this could mark the re-debut of said classic map. Though given the delay from when pro players tried it out pre-launch last year, all the way through to today, it begs the question why Infinity Ward held off on its release for so long. It turns out, it boils down to strategy and perception more than anything. “There’s power in nostalgia of bringing those back,” Smith continued. “To be honest, there’s good, fun gameplay there. It’s kind of silly to not use into those and lean into the strengths of those maps. Kind of a broken record but it’s also this balance between brand new stuff and something that’s familiar. “Even when we do new maps, people will say ‘Oh I didn’t like this, this other map was way better.’ It feels almost like it takes some time to get used to something new. Then suddenly two years later they’re like ‘oh man, Hackney Yard was a great map,’ but during the launch of it you’re like ‘that was a piece of crap.’ You build those memories with your friends and eventually, you have these rose-tinted glasses of these maps.” As part of their mission with the revamped Modern Warfare series, devs didn’t want to simply rely on old staples from top to bottom. While there’s certainly a spot for them to exist in today’s games, the team strived to establish “a new stable” of maps above all, Co-Design Director of Multiplayer Joseph Cecot explained. “Make sure we’re leaning in and trying new things [at launch]. Then post-launch is when we look at bringing old maps back. We brought back Shoothouse and Shipment. But really, it’s important we’re bringing something new, we’re evolving, we’re making new content, it’s a new game, and it’s not just a bunch of remastered maps.” For now, we’ll simply have to wait and see what classics are left on the roadmaps ahead for the remainder of the Modern Warfare 2 cycle. Rest assured, we’ll keep you posted right here with any further details as they emerge.

Modern Warfare 2 devs tease final multiplayer maps “lean into” competitive play – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 devs tease final multiplayer maps “lean into” competitive play ActivisionModern Warfare 2 developers at Infinity Ward have implied that the last remaining maps for their seasonal content plans “lean into” the competitive CoD style of play. For the CoD franchise in 2023, plans are a little unclear. Conflicting reports have touched on a wide range of possibilities, from simply another year of Modern Warfare 2, a possible new expansion on the way, to more recent leaks suggesting a full-fledged sequel is on the way instead. At this point in time, nothing concrete has yet been outlined. However, one thing we do know for certain is that seasonal content will continue rolling out for Modern Warfare 2 in the interim. Season 3 is already well underway, and as usual, the next major content drop is only around the corner. In speaking with two lead multiplayer devs at Infinity Ward, we gleaned some insight into just how far ahead the team plans its seasonal content, and even got a hint at what to expect from the very end of Modern Warfare 2’s 2023 roadmap. “I think the final ship year, we already have our plan for post-launch,” Multiplayer Design Director Geoff Smith told us. “Maybe those maps haven’t been started, but at least we’ve earmarked what they could or should be. There’s always kind of a rough plan. Different things happen, different situations come up, and those plans can change. But we’ve been trying to get better at pre-planning the post-launch stuff.” While nothing too specific was revealed in our conversation, Smith then teased what fans can look forward to with what will seemingly be the final batch of MW2 content later this year. Specifically, ranked grinders and CDL fans alike should be especially keen to see what’s on the horizon. “As a fun side note… I’ll probably get in trouble for this, but the last three maps of this year, we’ve kind of leaned into maps I think would play that style really well,” Smith teased, speaking on the more competitive chunk of the CoD community. Exactly what those maps look like, obviously remains to be seen. These could all be brand-new designs or we could see more classics making a return to cap off the MW2 cycle. Anything is possible but it appears Infinity Ward is planning to cater to the competitive crowd with this particular set of maps later on in 2023. “It’ll be fun to see,” Smith continued. “I like to throw in some exploratory stuff in post-launch. Secret little tests to see how things resonate and how they play. But it’ll be fun to see how those go over.” Despite these plans, it is worth mentioning the 2023 CDL season may very well be in the books by the time these competitive-leaning maps make their way into the game. With this year’s Champs event set to conclude by June 18, it’s safe to say these new additions won’t be available in time.

Modern Warfare 2 devs reveal major Beta changes coming to solve player issues – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 devs reveal major Beta changes coming to solve player issues ActivisionModern Warfare 2 developers Infinity Ward have revealed incoming changes to the Beta’s User Interface (UI), as well as the lobby disband mechanic that has proven particularly unpopular with players. The Modern Warfare 2 Beta is underway and players of all platforms are now able to drop in and experience the 2022 installment of the storied FPS franchise. While not a completed title, the Beta gives players their chance to offer feedback ahead of the full game’s release on October 28. As such, players have been offering their critiques to the devs and, on September 23, Infinity Ward confirmed multiple changes coming to the Beta based on what the player base has been saying. Infinity Ward reveal changes to UI, lobby disbands and action against cheaters They announced the upcoming adjustments in a series of tweets, with the first pledging action against cheaters and hackers. Fans were dismayed when, just days into a pre-launch Beta, it became apparent that some players have already found ways to cheat. Infinity Ward said: “Tomorrow, we’ll begin taking live action against cheaters and hackers in Beta matches.” That wasn’t all though, with the devs promising improvements to the UI, which has come in for significant criticism among players as overly complicated and messy. Finally, they promised tweaks to lobby disbanding – a system where players are automatically removed from old lobbies and placed into new ones when matches finish. It has been a feature of newer CoDs but is unpopular amongst players who relish the chance to go up against players they have just beaten or lost to. They said: “We’ve heard a lot of you on disbanding lobbies. We’re working on a few tweaks to increase the chance of lobbies staying together, and improving the UI when it happens.” Many responded positively to the devs’ words, excited for the changes to be implemented and improve the game already. However, others called for more changes in line with player demands, like heavily requested minimap adjustments to bring it in line with traditional CoDs. We’ll be the first to update you as more changes are made.

Modern Warfare 2 devs respond to party bug causing game crashes – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 devs respond to party bug causing game crashes ActivisionModern Warfare 2 developers Infinity Ward have provided another response to a bug causing parties to crash matches, with players unable to drop into multiplayer with friends. Modern Warfare 2 finally dropped to players around the world on October 28 after months of anticipation and a week of early access Campaign. As players get used to the maps, guns, and changes from the multiplayer beta, they also have to navigate the inevitable bugs and glitches that accompany a new game’s release. So far we’ve seen issues surrounding the MW2 Vault Edition and the infamous ‘Scan and Repair’ error return. October 28 also brought a new problem, seeing players partying up quickly booted out of their game thanks to an irritating bug. Infinity Ward “investigating” party crashing issue in MW2 Thankfully, Infinity Ward promptly responded on Twitter, letting players know that the issue is being looked into and will hopefully be resolved soon. They said: “We’re aware of some players experiencing crashes when partied up. Please stay tuned as we investigate the issue.” Shortly after the developers provided another update. Unfortunately, it won’t be fixed imminently, with the devs instead scheduling a fix for the morning of October 29 PDT time. That means those in Europe, Asia, Oceania and Africa will have to wait until late on October 29 for a fix. Infinity Ward said: “Thank you for your patience. We will be deploying a mitigation for party related crashes tomorrow morning (PDT). Update to follow.” A cause is not entirely clear either, meaning it’s even more difficult for players to avoid at the moment. Those affected will, for the time being, just have to cope with gaming alone until the problem receives a patch.

Modern Warfare 2 devs respond after Season Two randomly removes killcams – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 devs respond after Season Two randomly removes killcams ActivisionInfinity Ward have responded after February 15’s Season Two update randomly removed killcams from certain multiplayer modes in Modern Warfare 2. Season Two of Modern Warfare was long-anticipated, bringing a huge number of changes to the annual installment. A classic Hardcore mode finally came, as did a Treyarch-developed Ranked mode. However, the update also led to some unintended consequences in the form of bugs and glitches affecting the average player’s experience. One that was quickly noticed by players was the removal of killcams from certain modes. Highlighted by a fan via Reddit, they said: “After this latest update my killcam is gone completely. This is in Moshpit, Quick Play, and Ground War.” Now, the devs have rolled out a new update to bring killcams back to all modes. Infinity Ward respond after MW2 Season Two removes killcams In a February 19 tweet, Infinity Ward said: “We’re investigating why Killcams are disabled in some game Modes.” They did not clarify specifically which modes had been affected, but reports from players indicated that the bug was pretty widespread. It also appeared to be plaguing players on all platforms. Several hours later, the development team tweeted that they’d “released a minor update to address an issue that was preventing Killcams from working across all Modes.” It’s unclear what exactly caused the killcam removal issue in the first place, but this patch should hopefully fix the problems for players across all platforms. Given the presumed severity of the issue – accidentally removing a core CoD multiplayer mechanic – it comes as no surprise that Infinity Ward wanted to get this bug resolved as soon as possible. Thankfully, the team was able to roll out the fix in less than a day’s time. For a full idea of the bugs the development team is tracking (and hopefully solving), you can check out the dedicated Modern Warfare 2 Trello Board.

Modern Warfare 2 devs respond after accidental tactical sprint nerf – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 devs respond after accidental tactical sprint nerf ActivisionInfinity Ward responded after an accidental tactical sprint nerf in the Season 2 Reloaded update briefly aggravated Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 community members. Season 2 Reloaded went live on March 15. For Warzone 2, the update removed AI from Ashika Island, finally added auto-looting armor plates, and introduced every playlist option to Resurgence. As for multiplayer fans, Modern Warfare 2 received a new 6v6 map and three-party game modes. A hotly contested issue in MW2 and WZ2 is movement speed. Multiplayer and battle royale players questioned the decision to remove slide canceling, which made finessing gunfights easier. Infinity Ward improved movement speed while plating in Warzone 2, and dolphin diving replaced slide canceling in Mw2. Despite finding alternatives, players still voiced concerns over slower mobility compared to previous series entries. Community frustrations boiled over when it appeared movement received a further nerf in the Season 2 Reloaded update. Infinity Ward corrects “unintentional” tactical sprint nerf The Season 2 Reloaded update addressed several community concerns but didn’t escape controversy. CoD content creator Futives posted a video of tactical sprinting taking over a minute to reset after the mid-season update. It usually only takes a few moments to reset a tactical sprint. The clip went viral, and community members slammed what appeared to be a silent nerf. After a brief period of collective panic among Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 community members, Infinity Ward quickly responded and announced a hotfix. “We are working on a small update to correct irregular animation and behavior to Tactical Sprint. The change was unintentional and due to current investigation around the melee sprint reset exploit. Tactical Sprint behavior should return to normal once the update is live.” Infinity Ward The developers clarified that the change happened because of an investigation around the melee sprint reset. The exploit allowed players to reset the tactical sprint animation by meleeing. We will provide an update when the hotfix goes live to correct the tactical sprinting animation.

Modern Warfare 2 devs finally make long-awaited camo changes in March 21 update – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 devs finally make long-awaited camo changes in March 21 update ActivisionInfinity Ward released a small update for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, making bug fixes, improving server stability, and finally giving players two long-awaited camo features. Infinity Ward received harsh criticism for its handling of camos in Modern Warfare 2. Players slammed the camo UI as the “worst in CoD history.” The developers responded in Season 2 by improving the navigation and organization of player-unlocked camos. The seasonal update also increased the animation speed of the Polyatomic camo, as some community members argued it wasn’t fast enough. Players praised a step in the right direction, and the developers weren’t done there. Let’s jump right into a few unannounced changes as part of the March 21 update. Players discover Polyatomic and Orion camo changes On March 21, Infinity Ward released a small update, which fixed server crashes and made several bug fixes. Notably, the devs fixed an issue that prevented players from unlocking stock attachments on the Tempus Torrent, an infinite menu loading problem, and an issue holding players back from completing weapon challenges. Modern Warfare 2 YouTuber KRNG Hero discovered the update also secretly animated the Polyatomic camo. Community members praised the decision, and one fan responded, “finally, they got something right.” That wasn’t the only surprise, as Spartan CS posted a video of a faster Orion animation speed. Community members once again rejoiced, but not everyone loved the camo design. “Orion needs to be brighter, and it would be a top 3 camo, but it’s just not good if the light doesn’t hit it right.” Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 March 21 patch notes Here are the full MW2 and WZ2 March 21 patch notes GENERAL Stability This update contains fixes for a number of known crashes. – – BUG FIXES Fixed an issue that sent Players back to the “My Bundles” tab when closing a Bundle preview without making a purchase – Fixed an issue that counted AI combatant headshots for Event Camo Challenges – Fixed an issue that prevented Players from unlocking all stocks on the Tempus Torrent – Fixed an issue with disappearing buttons in one of the Atomgrad Raid Episode 01 encounters – Fixed an issue showing completed weapon challenges as locked when viewed from the Weapon Challenges screen – Fixed an issue that showed duplicate lock icons in the Path of the Ronin challenges – Fixed an issue disabling “Mute All” if a new Player joins mid-match – Fixed an exploit in DMZ allowing Players to obtain an unintended amount of money buy selling Dog Tags – Fixed an issue causing the “Wasteland” challenge progress to only track Quad Feed kills and not Quad kills – Fixed an issue affecting Players’ ability to edit saved Custom Mod Blueprints in the Gunsmith – Fixed an issue causing the magazine to not display on the Unchained Fury Blueprint in DMZ – Fixed an issue where using the Equip Weapon and Open Gunsmith options in the Showcase Weapon Select while the Favorite Loadout Primary is set to the Riot Shield can cause menus to load infinitely – Fixed an issue with Faction Missions list positioning in pre-game Lobby – The Kastov 762 is now hidden in the Ranked Play loadout UI. –

Modern Warfare 2 devs finally confirm Gunfight release date – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 devs finally confirm Gunfight release date ActivisionInfinity Ward, the development team behind Modern Warfare 2, have finally confirmed when the popular game mode Gunfight will release – saying in the Season Two update that players can expect it with Season Three. Modern Warfare 2 players have known for some time that the 2022 instalment will get Gunfight, with Infinity Ward confirming back in the summer that it would eventually drop in game. Despite that, a specific release date has never materialized. Many expected it with Season Two, but Modern Warfare 2 is instead set for Gun Game, Infected and the return of Hardcore. While the update did not bring Gunfight itself, it did bring confirmation of when players can expect it. Modern Warfare 2 will get Gunfight in Season 3 The Season Two update revealed that Modern Warfare 2 will receive Gunfight in a season’s time. That is to say that it will drop with Season Three of Modern Warfare 2. We don’t have specific details on when that will be, but typical seasons are around two months in length, meaning mid-April looks likely. Furthermore, the devs confirmed details relating to Gunfight. It will receive new maps every season, with the mode’s maps specifically designed for Gunfight, rather than areas of existing multiplayer environments. Gunfight is a 2v2 multiplayer mode that debuted with MW2019. It sees duos battle it out against other duos in mini-arena matches with no respawns per round. The first duo to eliminate the opposing team wins a round, and the first team to win six rounds takes the match. Modern Warfare 2 devs don’t want PC players to get an advantage with settings – Dexerto
Modern Warfare 2 devs don’t want PC players to get an advantage with settings ActivisionModern Warfare 2 developers say that PC players will not have a big advantage by exploiting the new water feature. Modern Warfare 2’s latest trailer revealed many exciting new features that will be coming to the game. One that stood out, and perhaps not completely for the best reasons, was the upgraded water rendering. With MW2 being built on a brand new engine, graphical upgrades were almost a given. The water shown in the trailer looks incredibly realistic as Captain Price floats beside a buoy and the game is confirmed to have at least one underwater level. Although the game’s water may look great in the campaign, multiplayer and Warzone fans were left a bit concerned. With its glossy, opaque appearance, players will be able to slip into the water to avoid detection from enemies. But that may not be the case for all players. Could MW2’s water be a problem? One big concern from Call of Duty fans regarding previous games had to do with graphical disparities between console and PC versions. While the version of the games for consoles had certain graphical restrictions, on PC that was not the case. This meant that Call of Duty players could turn their PC’s graphics so low that certain surfaces and effects would not render. The most common advantage this gave was that when enemies popped a smoke grenade or disappeared into fog, they would still be visible to players with low graphics. As a result, many console players were concerned that the improved water in Modern Warfare 2 could be exploited in a similar way. Modern Warfare 2’s water won’t be exploited https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r72GP1PIZa0 In an interview with Eurogamer, the Modern Warfare 2 developers confirmed that they had considered and addressed these concerns. Water will not be exploitable in Modern Warfare 2, they say. “When we first approached water, it was from the perspective that this should be an escape mechanic, not an attacking mechanic. You should be able to jump in the water and swim away and players aren’t able to see you,” MW2 multiplayer design director Geoffrey Smith said in the interview. Multiplayer co-design director Joe Cecot confirmed “[i]f your settings are low, we still want the same coverage, the same treatment of water.” Luckily for Call of Duty fans, it seems the engine and design of the water are not the only features getting upgrades. The developers’ attention to detail and consideration for pain points in previous installments should make the game feel much fairer.
