Carnival themed Black Ops 4 map coming in Strike from the Shadows operation TreyarchThe April 28 Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Strike from the Shadows Operation teaser has given fans a look at one of the new multiplayer maps expected to release on Tuesday, April 30, with the map appearing to be themed around a carnival parade. Call of Duty have been dropping hints towards the Strike from the Shadows Operation, which is expected to include the release of Spectre, a new Specialist character for the game who first made an appearance in Black Ops 3. The operation is also expected to include three new multiplayer maps, plus changes to the existing Blackout map, with some believing that the landscape of the battle royale mode will be flooded as the mysterious Spectre blows up the Hydro Dam. Treyarch tease a carnival map The fifth Operation teaser is now live, and appears to show a map which will be contested around a parade or a carnival. In the teaser, a number of floats can be seen moving and bobbing, while the sounds of cheering audiences can he heard as they enjoy the procession. Buildings that look like storefronts or homes can also be spotted in the background, but it’s difficult to see what they are exactly as they are out of focus in the shot. The location of this map is currently unknown, but many believe it’s possible that it’s based in either New Orleans in the United States, or in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, two cities renowned for their party atmosphere. Others suggest it’s taking place at a theme park of some sorts, with the crowd noise actually being pumped in through speakers, rather than being made by an actual audience. WMD returns in Black Ops 4 Call of Duty fans will already be aware of one of the maps included in the next Black Ops 4 operation, as Black Ops 1 fan-favorite WMD is making a return on April 30. It’s largely expected that the map will be included as one of three multiplayer maps expected to launch as part of the Season Pass, although it is possible they could add it as a new location on Blackout. Read More: Top 20 highest earning Call of Duty pros – Fans of the franchise’s older games will remember WMD from Black Ops 1, the title which successfully kicked off the Black Ops franchise for Treyarch, although the specialists and killstreaks which are included as part of Black Ops 4 will likely give the map a different feel compared to what old-school fans will remember. The new Call of Duty Black Ops 4 operation launches exclusively on PS4 on Tuesday, April 30, becoming available for Xbox One and PC users one week later on May 7.

Cardi B sneaks MW2 easter egg into new ‘Hot Shit’ music video – Dexerto
Cardi B sneaks MW2 easter egg into new ‘Hot Shit’ music video Cardi BCall of Duty has a history of collaborating with celebrities, but nobody could have expected a Cardi B/MW2 crossover. Activision called upon some star power for its Modern Warfare 2 reveal trailer, recruiting the likes of Pete Davidson, Steve Aoki, and Trae Young. For a 2021 Warzone trailer, the Call of Duty developers recruited A-list celebrities Young Thug, Jack Harlow, and Swae Lee. The trailer also included Los Angeles Dodgers’ Mookie Betts and Manchester City’s Jack Grealish. Call of Duty again pulled off the miraculous, collaborating with rap phenom Cardi B. Cardi B shows off Modern Warfare 2 Ghost necklace In Cardi B’s new music video for ‘Hot Shit,’ Charlie Intel sleuthed that she was wearing an MW2 Ghost necklace in the video. Ghost is a member of Modern Warfare 2’s Task Force 141 and is one of the most iconic figures in the Call of Duty universe. After an initial post, Activision sent Charlie Intel a high-resolution photo of the necklace, and Cardi B responded by saying, “who knows where this is from?” Connecting dots, the official Call of Duty Twitter account posted a video of the Ghost pendant creation process earlier that day. Call of Duty released an operator skin for Snoop Dog in April, instantly becoming a must-have item. It’s safe to say that if Cardi B got her own operator skin, it would also fly off the shelves. Keep your eyes peeled for other celebrities wearing a Ghost pendant, as this could start a trend.

Cardi B reveals she missed out on “multi-million dollar” Call of Duty deal amid legal woes – Dexerto
Cardi B reveals she missed out on “multi-million dollar” Call of Duty deal amid legal woes Activision Blizzard/Instagram: Cardi BRapper Cardi B was allegedly once offered a multi-million dollar Call of Duty deal that she was forced to turn down because of personal legal issues she was facing at the time. The Call of Duty franchise is no stranger to attaching big-name celebrities to their projects. Over the years, many well-known actors, musicians, and athletes have had different levels of involvement in various projects. The Black Ops games have included Batman actor Michael Keaton as well as Hellboy’s Ron Pearlman. Infinite Warfare also had Game of Thrones’ Kit Harrington and UFC superstar Conor McGregor featured. Even more recently, Pete Davidson, Steve Aoki, and TimTheTam all featured in ads for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Rapper Cardi B revealed that she could have also joined the Call of Duty series in a unique way. In a recent Twitter post, Cardi announced that she was once offered a major deal with the Call of Duty franchise but was unable to accept the deal due to the legal difficulties she was going through at the time the offer was made. “My stupid decisions from the past caused me to miss out on money now,” began Cardi B. “I had a multi-million dollar Call of Duty deal on the table that I couldn’t take because of court.” The popular rapper and songwriter then addressed her audience, telling them to “think twice about those quick decisions,” describing her experience and the situation as a “lesson learned.” While Cardi B didn’t specify which CoD game the deal was for, fans online are speculating that it was likely for the 2020 entry, Warzone. Since revealing her potential involvement in the game, Twitter users are voicing their desire to see her appear in future installments. Some commenters only jokingly expressed that they would have “dropped $30 instantly” for a “Cardi B skin.” In recent years, it has become common practice to see musicians, movie stars, and other celebrities collaborating with the video game industry. Fortnite has collaborated with the likes of Lebron James, Ariana Grande, Lil Nas X, and Travis Scott to name a few.

Captain Price skin leaked for Modern Warfare & Warzone Season 4 – Dexerto
Captain Price skin leaked for Modern Warfare & Warzone Season 4 Infinity WardThe skin of the iconic Call of Duty character Captain Price has been leaked early ahead of his introduction to Modern Warfare and Warzone’s Season 4 as a playable Operator. Captain Price is one of the most recognizable characters in the Call of Duty franchise and players have been eagerly awaiting his return to multiplayer since he was revealed to be in Modern Warfare’s campaign. The iconic CoD figure is expected to be released in the upcoming battle pass for Warzone and Modern Warfare’s fourth season, however, a new leak has revealed the Captain’s new skin early. One Modern Warfare fan u/buffalowings21940 shared a look at the new Operator on the Warzone Reddit, giving players an early look at what they can expect to equip in-game. They revealed an image of what appears to be the default look for Captain Price, kitted out in standard military gear with a set of night vision goggles added to his helmet, similar to his look in Campaign mode. As with all Operators in Modern Warfare and Warzone, it is likely that Captain Price will have numerous different outfits that players can unlock through challenges and the battle pass. The upcoming Operator was seemingly being used by one of Infinity Ward’s developers when the skin was leaked, after fans noticed he was also equipped with an exclusive camo that is not available to the public. There has been a lot of promotion for the upcoming character release in the new season, as Captain Price’s actor Barry Sloane has been sending many content creators such as Dr Disrespect personalized messages to hype up the arrival. It should come as no shock that the files for the upcoming operator are already in the game, as the fourth season, along with Captain Price, was initially scheduled to be released on June 4. After Activision had announced that they would be delaying the update to a later date, it is unclear when the new Modern Warfare and Warzone season is expected to be released.

Can you still play Warzone 1 in 2024? – Dexerto
Can you still play Warzone 1 in 2024? ActivisionAlthough the sequel is here, many Warzone fans might be wondering if they can return to the original game and visit Caldera. Here’s everything you need to know about playing Warzone 1 in 2024. Following the launch of Warzone 2, it’s no surprise that attention has mostly turned to the new era of CoD’s battle royale – from both a player and developer point of view. However, either due to the controversial features added to the sequel or nostalgia for the original’s gameplay and map, there are some players dying to return to Caldera. But can you still play Warzone 1 now that the follow-up is here? Here’s everything you need to know about accessing the original Warzone. Can you still play Warzone 1 in 2024? Good news for fans of the classic CoD BR, Warzone 1 is still playable under the new guise of ‘Warzone Caldera.’ Warzone 1 was temporarily offline when the sequel first arrived, but around a week later the servers came back and the rebrand as Warzone Caldera was complete. The game is essentially the final version of Warzone that players enjoyed up until Warzone 2 launched in November 2022, with a few key features removed. Resurgence maps like Fortune’s Keep and Rebirth are no longer available, the only playlist options are Solos and Quads, and there’s no Battle Pass to work through. However, the map, weapons, and overall gameplay remain untouched, so the core experience you know and love is still there. If you are looking to switch Al Mazrah for Caldera, it’s worth keeping in mind that Warzone 1 is no longer the main priority of the developers. This means that glitches, weapon imbalances, and other issues may take longer to be addressed, if at all. How to play Warzone Caldera You can access Warzone Caldera through the Modern Warfare (2019) app, exactly the same as you would have played Warzone 1 when it was in its prime. For a detailed explanation, be sure to check out our guide on how to download Warzone Caldera on all platforms. There is one major caveat, though. Warzone Caldera is currently only available to those who have previously played Warzone 1 or own a copy of Modern Warfare (2019). This means it can’t be found on console storefronts or Battle.net as a standalone app. It’s unclear at the moment if this is a bug that Activision Blizzard intends to address in the future, or an intentional decision to encourage new players to hop straight into Warzone 2. Can you play trios in Warzone 2? – Dexerto
Can you play trios in Warzone 2? ActivisionGot an odd number of teammates and want to play trios in Warzone 2? Fortuntaley for you, Trios were added as part of the December 8 playlist update. For many players, dropping into Warzone is all about two modes – Solos and Quads – but that isn’t the case for everyone. Some would rather play duos with their partner in crime, while others are fans of playing Trios. Over time, every type of mode has been available in the original Warzone, but not always at the same time – much to the annoyance of some players who see their favorite mode cycled out for something else. Well, with the launch of Warzone 2, these problems have risen once again. Modes have started to be cycled out for others to have the spot, and that’s annoying players. Is Trios available in Warzone 2? After not being included at launch, Raven Software announced on December 8, Trios are live. Previously, you were only able to play Trios in the third-person mode, but the developers removed the Third Person mode. You can, of course, always play with a Trio in the quads mode, but that creates an uneven lobby and also puts you at a disadvantage in some gunfights. So, while some players will jump in and be a man down, others stay well away. Some fans were displeased that the developers removed Third Person Trios. CoD content creator BearPig responded, “I feel like removing 3rd person is the WZ2 equivalent of Removing Rebirth.” Warzone expert JGOD added “RIP 3rd person.” other fans were more pleased to have traditional Trios back, but the update didn’t necessarily land for everyone.

Can you play Call of Duty: Mobile with a controller? – Dexerto
Can you play Call of Duty: Mobile with a controller? ActivisionCall of Duty finally entered the mobile space on September 30 with the release of the brand new CoD: Mobile game, but can you play it on your handheld device with a controller? CoD fans around the world are finally getting to experience an authentic mobile version of the incredibly popular FPS series, with many checking out the game’s touchscreen controls for the first time, although some have already found ways to use a mouse and keyboard to give them an advantage over their opponents. Of course, Call of Duty’s home is on console, so unsurprisingly many yearn for a chance to use their PlayStation or Xbox gamepads while diving into the game, instead of forcing themselves to learn an entirely new system with the touch controls. A few players have claimed that they were able to play the game using their controllers, but is it actually possible now? Can you play CoD mobile with a controller? When the game first released on mobile, it was possible to connect your controller to your mobile and use it to play the game. However, Activision released an update on October 1 which removed support for controllers, although they did say that it is likely to be coming back. For those hoping to hop into the game using their preferred pad any time soon, there’s bad news with Activision refraining from revealing a time scale for the reintroduction of the system to their mobile title, If controller support does return to mobile it will probably be in separate game lobbies to keep games “fair” as stated by the company’s Vice President of Mobile, Chris Plummer in an interview with Hypebeast. How was it possible to play CoD mobile with a controller? Using the controller for CoD mobile was a fairly straightforward process, so if you want to be ready for its return, here’s how it was originally possible. First, make sure the controller is switched off and not plugged into another device, then press and hold the share button and enable Bluetooth on your device. From there, all that was left was to find your controller on the list of Bluetooth devices in the settings on your desired device, and pair it with your controller. While many are enjoying Activision’s latest mobile offering, it has raised some eyebrows among the console community, as the game launched with a ranked mode, something that players have to wait months after release for on PlayStation and Xbox. If you’re enjoying the game on mobile or just want to learn more about it, you can check out our five tips to help get you started, as it can be fairly daunting having to take on a new set of controls.

Can you get a Nuke in Modern Warfare 3? – Dexerto
Can you get a Nuke in Modern Warfare 3? ActivisionCalling in a Nuke and ending the match is one of Call of Duty’s most iconic features, but is this killstreak back for another round in Modern Warfare 3? Here’s everything we know about the absolute ultimate MW3 feature. There’s no bigger statement in any CoD game than dropping a Nuke. The game-ending killstreak lets everyone in the lobby know they just got smoked by one next-level player. While the streak has seen plenty of iterations over the years, and even been absent in quite a few annual releases, it’s nonetheless a major talking point when any new CoD rolls around. So with Modern Warfare 3 just around the corner, fans are starting to question if the 2023 release will indeed feature a Nuke. Here’s what we know ahead of its launch. Can you get a Nuke in Modern Warfare 3? Yes, you can indeed get a Nuke in Modern Warfare 3. Much like in previous years, you just need 30 kills in a row without dying to unlock this bonus killstreak and end the match. In this iteration, the Nuke is referred to as the MGB (Mass Guided Bomb). As always, it’s a secret streak that only unlocks upon reaching the 30 kill mark. You can’t manually equip the Nuke among your chosen streaks. Of course, while the Nuke is the biggest prize, Modern Warfare 3 boasts a raft of other impactful killstreaks to help you swing the momentum of any given match. Warzone 2 perk packages explained: All perks & how to change them – Dexerto
Warzone 2 perk packages explained: All perks & how to change them ActivisionWarzone 2 is finally here, bringing with it a host of fresh new features and gameplay changes. One of these is the Modern Warfare 2 perk packages, brought into the CoD battle royale realm, but how do you change your perks in Warzone 2 and how do perks work in Warzone 2? Perks are an all-important factor in Call of Duty gameplay and have been for more than a decade at this point. Different perks are suitable for different playstyles, allowing players to operate the map and their matches at their own pace, in the way most suited to them and the weapon they’re using. Whether that’s zipping around the map with Double Time or using Tracker to stealthily hunt down your foes, there are certain perks that players will always gravitate toward depending on how they want to play. However, the perks in Warzone 2 are not as simple as picking your favorite. This change inspires two questions, how do perks work in Warzone 2 and how can you change perks? We’ve got all the answers here. How do perks work in Warzone 2 Before looking at how you can change perks in Warzone 2, it’s vital you know how the perks work. In the same way, as they work in Modern Warfare 2, you will have access to Base Perks from the beginning of the game. Then, you’ll get access to the Bonus Perks after four minutes into the game and Ultimate Perks eight minutes into Warzone 2. The perks available in Warzone 2 are as follows: Base Perks Battle Hardened: Reduce the effect of enemy flash, stun, EMP, gas grenades, and shock sticks. Immune to Snapshot grenades. – Bomb Squad: Take reduced damage from non-Killstreak explosives. Reset fuze timers when picking up live grenades. – Double Time: Double the duration of Tactical Sprint. Increase Crouch movement speed by 30%. – Overkill: Carry two primary weapons. – Scavenger: Resupply ammo and an extra plate from dead players. – Strong Arm: Throw equipment farther and see a preview of the trajectory. – Tracker: Enemies leave footprint trails and enemy death markers are visible. Kill markers are hidden from the enemy team. – Bonus Perks Cold-Blooded: Undetectable by AI targeting systems and thermal optics. Does not trigger High Alert warning. Does not highlight in enemy Tactical Cameras, Recon Drones, and Spotter Scopes. – Fast Hands: Reload, use equipment, and swap weapons faster. – Focus: Reduce flinch when aiming down sights and extend Hold Breath duration. – Resupply: Start with an additional Lethal. Recharge equipment over 30 seconds. – Spotter: Spot enemy equipment, Field Upgrades, and Killstreaks through walls. Aiming down sights highlights them for the team. Hack enemy Claymores, Proximity Mines, C4, and Trophy Systems. – Ultimate Perks Birdseye: UAV and Radar pings reveal the enemy’s direction. – Ghost: Undetectable by UAVs, Portable Radars, and Heartbeat Sensors. – High Alert: Vision pulses when spotted by an enemy player outside of view. – Quickfix: Killing players or inserting a plate immediately starts health regeneration. Capturing and holding objectives increases the player’s health regeneration rate. – Survivor: Enemies you down get automatically pinged. You also get revived faster by allies. – Can you change your perks in Warzone 2? At the time of writing, it is not possible to change your perk package in the battle royale game. Instead, there are several preset perk packages for players to choose from, including two Base perks, one Bonus perk, and one Ultimate perk, just like in Modern Warfare II. The perk packages are: Vanguard: Double Time, Bomb Squad, Resupply, High Alert – Commando: Scavenger, Strong Arm, Fast Hands, High Alert – Specter: Double Time, Tracker, Spotter, Ghost – Scout: Scavenger, Strong Arm, Focus, Ghost – Sentinel: Battle Hardened, Bomb Squad, Cold-Blooded, Quickfix – Warden: Double Time, Strong Arm, Fast Hands, Quickfix – Weapon Specialist: Overkill, Strong Arm, Spotter, Survivor – Recon: Double Time, Tracker, Focus, Birdseye – It’s unclear at the time of writing whether this is planned to be a permanent move in Warzone 2, or if, eventually, players will be able to edit their Perk Packages just like they can in Modern Warfare 2. There’s definitely something for everyone here, but it’s well worth trying out different Perk Packages to see what helps you play best. That’s all you need to know about what the perks do in Warzone 2 as well as switching perks. Can these shocking changes save desperate CoD teams? CDL Preview Show – Dexerto
Can these shocking changes save desperate CoD teams? CDL Preview Show Dexerto With the Call of Duty League’s fifth and final Stage fast approaching, our Reverse Sweep crew of Ian ‘Enable’ Wyatt, Jonathan ‘Pacman’ Tucker & Katie Bedford are here to preview the remaining weeks of competition ahead of Champs. Just days removed from the Stage 4 Major, CDL’s top squads are already hard at work preparing for their final challenges. The upcoming Stage will be the final chance to rise through the rankings and lock in a better seed for the end-of-year $2.5m Champs event. From squads with the most potential to players that we need to keep a close eye on, there’s plenty to unravel before the next round of regular-season action. Join the Reverse Sweep crew as they break down the biggest narratives heading into CDL’s fifth and final Stage. Will New York Subliners return to form in Stage 5? While NYSL still pulled out a win at the Stage 4 LAN, it was certainly a struggle without Asim in the lineup. Despite the unfortunate circumstance, they didn’t “lose anything from losing,” Pacman stressed. “Bring [Asim] back and if anything, it should just make you more confident.” Unlike a good number of roster shuffles throughout the year, “there’s no bad blood” here, Enable added. It was entirely out of their control but with Visa issues now under control, “they’ll get back to where they were at.” Rookies that didn’t show up at their first LAN event For many of the younger CDL pros, the Stage 4 Major was their first time playing in an offline setting. While a dip in performance would have been understandable, Pacman and Enable couldn’t name a single rookie that failed to deliver. Instead, “the duds came from veterans,” Pacman joked. “None were duds,” Enable followed up, looping back to newcomers like Standy and HyDra. “Most of them were just ok. It’s so hard with the format, some teams only played three maps.” So while there were no standouts, both agreed that we still need a bigger “sample size” before properly judging them. Not too shabby for @Staaandy’s LAN debut 😳 pic.twitter.com/icihIo3MRJ — Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) June 18, 2021 Which CDL teams will reach new heights in Stage 5? With the fifth and final stage fast approaching, which teams are most likely to improve before it’s too late? After a disappointing Stage 4 finish, Pacman went with the Los Angeles Thieves but only because “they can’t [get] worse. I have to assume they’ll improve,” he said. Meanwhile, Enable sided with the Subliners, arguing that the team will improve more than any other ahead of Champs. “They realized they missed an opportunity,” with the Stage 4 LAN, he explained. Now, their sights will be set on locking in second seed for the end-of-year tournament. “I think they’re gonna grind and they’re gonna do well,” Enable explained. Throwing a final name into the hat, Pacman also added Dallas Empire to the mix. “I think Dallas is at least going to solidify themselves as the second-best team.” CDL teams that desperately need a quick rebound Only a few weeks of action remain in the 2021 season so for certain teams, they need to rebound much quicker than others. LA Thieves is one such team, according to Enable. They’ll need a huge Stage 5 showing to avoid starting Champs in the lower bracket. “If you go to Champs and you can only lose one series, that’s the worst feeling ever,” he said. “They need to turn it around right now if they want to have any kind of success.” “For me it’s OpTic,” Pacman chimed in. “This is the first time where they’re not a true contender in a long time. They are truly not a championship-level contender.” Even if the Green Wall can turn things around, however, he’s adamant they’ll never “make it to a final.” Big W for the home team!@DallasEmpire eliminate OpTic and move on to face Ultra in the Losers Finals 💪 pic.twitter.com/8Ta8oawt48 — Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) June 20, 2021 Players to watch in CDL Stage 5 Before the 2021 offseason roster shuffles begin, players have one final stage to prove themselves and stand out from the pack. As a result, Pacman hoped Cammy can keep up his impressive performances moving forward. “He’s been disgusting and I think Cammy is a top-five player in the game.” “It’s gotta be Shotzzy for me,” Enable added. “When you watch him you just see how much he impacts the game. Not only is his movement an art, he’s making his teammates better. He’s gonna get to a point where he’s looked at as the best in the game.” Last up, Bedford highlighted another Toronto player, siding with Bance as her player to watch in Stage 5. “When they beat FaZe, Bance was so incredible. He was so good and then suddenly stuttered. “I want to see him get back into that rockstar form.” Bold CDL Stage 5 predictions After painting a more realistic picture of the upcoming Stage, the Reverse Sweep crew laid out their more outlandish predictions. To kick things off, Pacman made the claim that FaZe will finally face some adversity. “This is gonna be FaZe’s worst regular-season group stage,” he said. “In my head, they’re gonna be trying to iron out any details before Champs. Working on that might cause them to lose a match that maybe they shouldn’t lose.” On the opposite end of the standings, Enable believes Seattle Surge will finally make it to a winner’s bracket. “I think they’re gonna make a run in the Major,” he predicted. “They’re not gonna make it to Champs, but I think they’ll be close.” “I think Thieves will be starting in winners in Stage 5,” Bedford added with one condition in mind. Thieves will only find this success “if SlasheR stays on the team.” Can @SeattleSurge carry their LAN form online?@PacmanJT feels “LAN Surge” can make some noise over the remainder of the season! 📢#CDL2021 Biggest Mover | Presented by @KontrolFreek. pic.twitter.com/4WLgyVbv02 — Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) June 23, 2021 How CDL rosters should change in Stage 5 Speaking of the LA Thieves lineup, mystic Enable struck again in this week’s preview show. Before news broke that TJHaLy would be joining Challengers team WestR, Enable saw it coming. “The one realistic move that I would do, if I was LA Thieves, I’m bringing Drazah back into the starting lineup for TJ,” he said. As the final request, Pacman wanted to see one key change from Minnesota. “I think ROKKR’s ceiling was higher with Accuracy,” he argued. If they rotate him into the lineup once again, it could be a chance to find success in Stage 5. For all Reverse Sweep CDL news, head over to our dedicated page.

Can John solve LA Thieves’ CDL problems? – Dexerto
Can John solve LA Thieves’ CDL problems? Activision/100 Thieves After a constant string of roster moves, LA Thieves seem to have finally settled on their CDL Stage 5 starting line-up as we get into the business end of the season, and they think John is the missing piece of the puzzle. But is he? John has been added to LA Thieves and immediately slotted into a starting roster spot, presumed to line up alongside Austin ‘SlasheR’ Liddicoat, Kenneth ‘Kenny’ Williams and Zack ‘Drazah’ Jordan. John is no stranger to success, despite spending the last couple of seasons either out of action or grinding away in the Challengers scene. He has won multiple championships, including the 2016 world championship. That said, LA Thieves are looking to come out on top in the final tournaments of the season, and are resting their hopes on John returning to his Black Ops 3 form. But will he really help that much? It’s no secret that LA Thieves have struggled throughout their first season in the Call of Duty League, as evidenced by their frequent roster swaps and rapid rises and declines in the power rankings. As Andrew ‘Enigma’ Campion explains on Reverse Sweep Round 11, the veteran SMG has some fantastic qualities and an impressive track record — but it’s hard to tell whether he is the key to bringing the Thieves to the top. “This is a man who’s been winning titles since Ghosts,” Enigma explains. “He’s experienced the highest highs and the lowest lows that can be offered in Call of Duty. He has a wealth of intangibles… he might have that quiet leadership to help see them through those tight situations that mid-table teams need.” Enigma believes that John’s hyper-aggressive playstyle and pop-off potential appears to fit exactly what LA Thieves need, but with how their season has panned out, it might not fall that way. “I have this [move] taking LA Thieves back to being a really solid mid-table side,” Enigma concludes. “I don’t see this making them compete for championships, and despite LAT’s best efforts, I don’t see this making them win anything throughout the back end of this season.” However it pans out, it’s definitely exciting to see one of the best SMG players in CoD history returning to the main stage.

Can Atlanta FaZe save Their Legacy? CDL Preview Show – Dexerto
Can Atlanta FaZe save Their Legacy? CDL Preview Show Activision With the CDL Stage 3 Major set to kick off, Reverse Sweep hosts Katie Bedford, Ian ‘Enable’ Wyatt and Jonathan ‘Pacman’ Tucker look ahead to the huge event and discuss their expectations, prediction,s and biggest storylines. With Atlanta FaZe and Toronto Ultra continuing to dominate the Call of Duty League, Enable and Pacman assess each team’s biggest assets, as well as how outsider teams such as New York Subliners and LA Thieves can push to reach their level. With the Stage 3 Major firmly on the eyes of the Call of Duty community, the Reverse Sweep CDL Preview Show first looks at the reigning champions. Will Toronto Ultra go back-to-back? Fans and analysts alike see no other option but Atlanta or Toronto winning it all at the Major, with a spot at the top of the power rankings and the title of ‘best team in the game’ on the line. With the two expected to meet in Winner’s Bracket round 2, they’ll both have to be on their absolute A-game to get the better of the other, and while Enable thinks Toronto are likely to take the cake, Pacman says there’s some pressure on FaZe. He says: “The cool thing about this is if FaZe beat Empire, they play Toronto in the second round. FaZe get to protect their own record. What more could you ask for? Right now, this FaZe is scary, and between these two it’s like clash of the titans.” The OpTic Chicago conundrum “We’re practicing every day, then we go into our matches and we’re losing. The past three weeks have been so sh*tty.”” Hours away from the #CDL2021 Stage 3 Major, @scump reflects on OpTic’s recent struggles. pic.twitter.com/skcO6LMmhp — Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) May 13, 2021 OpTic have found themselves in a pretty shocking situation, especially by their standards. Starting in the Loser’s Bracket, it’s very possible that they don’t place inside the top eight, especially if they go on to meet Dallas Empire or Atlanta in Round 3. “You don’t have time anymore to have a rough weekend,” Enable says of the struggling team. “Everyone’s got to be playing lights out from here on until the end of the season. It’s going to be an insane Major.” Pacman backs Enable up, saying that this is “Champs time” and OpTic need to find form at this point, especially if they won’t make a roster change. ARs vs SMGs Recent updates have seen the Krig 6 and assault rifles across the board brought up a notch, and as a result, 8 of the top 10 Stage 3 KDs were assault rifle players. The only exceptions are Chris ‘Simp’ Lehr and Paco ‘HyDra’ Rusiewiez. Enable says, though, this only highlights the importance of a great sub duo. “There’s a lot of great AR players, and I feel like you can’t say the same for subs. That’s why it’s so important to have such a great sub duo.” Players to watch: Huke, Shotzzy & Clayster “Huke needs to perform,” Enable says. “If LAT want to win, Huke has to be great… If they can get that consistency out of Huke, they’ll be a very scary team.” Speaking of dominant subs, Huke needs to reach his Stage 1 level if the Thieves want to win. That isn’t lost on our Reverse Sweep hosts, and it definitely won’t be lost on Huke and the team either. Pacman looks to a similar player, with Huke’s former teammate Anthony ‘Shotzzy’ Cuevas-Castro. “Shotzzy hit a point last year where he was the best player in the world… He hasn’t hit that point yet. He’s been fine, but for Dallas to reach that next level, it’s going to have to be him.” Finally, Katie says her eyes will be on James ‘Clayster’ Eubanks at the Stage 3 Major. “[At the Stage 2 Major] I felt like I got to watch Clay give up. I felt like I watched the light die in his eyes… I want to see Clay still be able to bring those vibes and that composure.” Bold prediction: Subliners, OpTic make the run In Call of Duty, anything can happen on any given day. While the best usually prevail, that isn’t always the case, and Enable and Pacman expect some upsets at the Stage 3 Major. While Pacman says that he says Subliners making it into the grand final, beating either Toronto or Atlanta on the way, Enable says Chicago could make the run through loser’s bracket and place in the top four. With Toronto and Atlanta such heavy favorites, both these predictions are pretty bold — but we’ll have to wait and see what happens. For all Reverse Sweep CDL news, head over to our dedicated page.

Cammy explains why CDL teams need to stop ignoring European talent – Dexerto
Cammy explains why CDL teams need to stop ignoring European talent Call of Duty League Cameron ‘Cammy’ McKilligan has been a standout MVP candidate for Toronto Ultra during the 2021 CDL season, and is a testament to the incredible Call of Duty talent coming out of Europe. But, he says, the region needs to be looked at more from other CDL franchises. With the global health situation still ongoing, players from different regions haven’t had much opportunity to compete against one another, instead locked in against their more local opponents. With the majority of the competition taking place in North America for much of CoD’s history, that tends to be where the best players are, and Europeans and players further afield have often felt as though they’re overlooked. This sentiment isn’t dying any time soon, by the looks of it, with Cammy sticking up for his brothers across the pond. In an exclusive chat with Andrew ‘Enigma’ Campion for Reverse Sweep, Cammy explains how Toronto’s impressive CDL performances prove that Europe shouldn’t be overlooked. “There’s definitely more opportunities that need to be given to some players in Europe,” the Scot explained. “I think people need to start taking more risks rather than going with ‘veterans’ that have just been about for ages.” He continues: “It was really hard for Europeans to get in the league, especially with the way stuff was [in the past]. I think the fact that I got in the league in Black Ops 4 was pure luck. There were barely ever any Europeans who got a chance in the league.” Cammy went on to explain that he believes the CDL system will always offer more opportunities to North American players, but he thinks “a lot more people” are starting to pay attention to EU Challengers. The current Ultra team are a rare case of a truly incredible European team that are capable of challenging for championships, something EU fans don’t often get to celebrate. Next season could be different though, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

Call of Duty’s Xbox Game Pass debut might be imminent according to leaked store message – Dexerto
Call of Duty’s Xbox Game Pass debut might be imminent according to leaked store message Activision / MicrosoftActivision’s juggernaut FPS franchise, Call of Duty, might be arriving on Xbox Game Pass sooner than later, as a new store message has teased an imminent arrival. Microsoft forever changed the gaming industry in 2022 with its acquisition of Activision Blizzard. While the unprecedented $70 billion deal has certainly had its setbacks in courts around the globe, the buyout is nearing completion and with that, all of the publishing giant’s IP will soon be controlled by Microsoft. Naturally, after spending such an exorbitant amount of money, gamers have been wondering if Activision’s biggest franchise will be making its way to Microsoft’s subscription service. While earlier comments suggested it’s certainly possible, it now appears all but guaranteed. A leaked message on the Xbox store may have just let slip CoD’s imminent arrival on the platform. News of this message began circulating on September 24, as Brazillian gamers noticed a new line of text appearing after trying to purchase one specific CoD game. “You receive this item for free with your game subscription,” a translated message reads for those trying to buy Black Ops 2. “Continue to finish and be able to use it forever.” In another instance, fans appear to have added CoD Ghosts to their Game Pass library for no additional costs as well. All the signs seem to be indicating an imminent launch for the franchise on the subscription service. For the time being, however, Microsoft nor Activision has commented on the news in recent weeks. The last public discussion on the topic came back in August when Phil Spencer advised fans that it takes time to port titles over to Game Pass. “There is actually work to do to move games to Game Pass. People think the deal closes, and it’s all on Game Pass. That’s not true. It will take us time to get the games on Game Pass.” For now, we’ll just have to continue holding our breath and wait to see when CoD might launch on Game Pass. Though if this new leak is anything to by, we might not be waiting much longer. This year’s Modern Warfare 3 release goes live on November 10. Perhaps by then, it could very well be a day one addition on Game Pass.

Call of Duty’s surprise best team?! | CDL Review – Dexerto
Call of Duty’s surprise best team?! | CDL Review The Call of Duty League is heading into the Stage 4 Major, and the Reverse Sweep crew is here to catch you up on the action thus far. Join Ian ‘Enable’ Wyatt, Jonathan ‘Pacman’ Tucker & Katie Bedford as we take apart the biggest points of Stage 4 Week 3. Taking the good with the bad, it’s time to be honest and Katie, Enable & Pacman gave their unfiltered review of Week 3! This week’s episode, the Reverse Sweep collective take a look at Toronto Ultra’s surprise form going into the Major, the continued struggles of the LA Thieves, and more. Seattle can Surge (to a point) Just before the Stage 4 Major, Seattle Surge had a really impressive showing against Chicago OpTic, but followed that up with a loss to Paris Legion. Pacman says this is a small sample in the larger scope of Seattle’s potential: they can have solid wins against good teams in the league, but consistency issues are likely going to hinder them at the Major. Expect Ultra to be just as good on LAN What started as memes is turn into real questions of whether Ultra are only good because of online play. Pacman and Enable don’t think people should buy into those critiques. The Toronto Ultra are a good team and have a great chance to surprise the elite orgs at the Major. They have excellent comms in tense situations and the skill to put away top teams. Watch out for the Ultra come playoffs. Giving up on explain LA Thieves’ woes The LA Thieves roster is stacked. We know this about them. But something Enable doesn’t know is why this lineup still can’t find sustained success in the league. But LAT’s management still hasn’t found the winning formula late in the season. Individually, these players are studs, but this iteration needs a lot more time to gel together before being a title contender. Fighting for your CDL job Outside of a few names like Scrapz, Octane, Gunless, or the like, teammates in the bottom four of the league are fighting to impress in the final stretch before Champs. Mathematically, there’s not much hope for Paris or Seattle, but it doesn’t mean that those teams can’t still play spoiler in Stage 5. This could mean either new players from Challengers will come out to impress in the next stage, or it will be some people’s last chance to prove their worth to their org. The good, the bad, the ugly With a persistent performance in the last few weeks, Toronto and Florida had standouts that deserved recognition from the Reverse Sweep crew. As for the LVPs, there’s something to say about the LA Thieves run in the CDL recently, as well as the one of the pivotal cogs in the Mutineers machine. For the full Reverse Sweep review, check out the full video! For all Reverse Sweep CDL news, head over to our dedicated page.

Call of Duty’s RICOCHET anti-cheat bans 50k cheaters in a single day – Dexerto
Call of Duty’s RICOCHET anti-cheat bans 50k cheaters in a single day Treyarch/ActivisionCall of Duty RICOCHET is already having a huge impact on the cheating population, with the devs revealing that just under 50k accounts were banned in Vanguard & Warzone on December 21 alone. In recent years, one of the biggest problems in Call of Duty has been the abundance of cheaters and players using third-party software to gain an advantage in their matches. The issue became so prevalent in Warzone that huge streamers and content creators began leaving the game to play other battle royale titles including Apex Legends & Fortnite. However, after the devs announced that they’d be releasing the kernel-level RICOCHET anti-cheat alongside the Warzone Pacific, a lot of the community were hopeful that the problem would finally be solved. Well, since releasing fully on December 15, the anti-cheat seems to have made a huge difference, with the devs even revealing that it banned 50k cheaters in a single day. RICOCHET anti-cheat bans 50k Warzone & Vanguard cheaters Just over a week after RICOCHET officially went live, the Call of Duty Twitter page revealed exactly how much of an impact the kernel-level driver was having on the cheating population. According to the devs, the anti-cheat banned just under 50,000 accounts across Warzone & Vanguard on December 21 alone. So, it’s clear that for the time being, Activision’s new anti-cheat is working as intended. https://twitter.com/CallofDuty/status/1473746439553617923 Although this was expected to be the case at release, it’s safe to say that cheat makers are hard at work attempting to create third-party software that can bypass the driver. This means to keep Warzone and Vanguard free of hackers, the devs are going to have to constantly update the system, or it won’t be long before CoD is overrun by cheaters again. However, this is certainly a huge improvement for the community when it comes to the overall gameplay experience, but the question is, how long will it last?

Call of Dutys Blackout Beta has Death Voice Chat – Dexerto
Call of Dutys Blackout Beta has Death Voice Chat 100 Thieves streamer NoahJ456 found out that Call of Duty’s Blackout beta has voice chat from dead opponents in a hilarious fashion. Noah was working his way around the Hydro Dam, located in the northeast of the map, when he ran head first into an enemy. Noah was able to react first, firing the first shot at his opponent and taking them down with minimal health left. As Noah celebrated his kill it became clear that Blackout allowed you to hear the voice chat of those you just eliminated. Noah ran over to loot his opponents body, but as he moved, a yell of “Bitch!” was roared by his fallen adversary, much to the delight of the streamer. BLACKOUT ADDED DEATH VOICE CHAT LMFAOOOOOO pic.twitter.com/Xjt8mkcl5R — NoahJ456 (@NoahJ456) September 10, 2018 Players will be able to hear opponents they’ve killed in the moments after their death, as long as they have a microphone connected and are not in a party chat. Death voice chat has been a feature in Call of Duty in the past. During multiplayer matches, players have long been able to hear their enemies after they’ve been killed but it was uncertain whether it would be included in Call of Duty’s first battle royale title. The inclusion of death voice chat in Blackout will be a popular feature amongst players and streamers, as players inevitably reacting to their death will surely lead to some funny clips for both players and streamers. Call of Dutys Blackout beta went live on PlayStation 4 on Monday, September 10, with Xbox and PC versions going live on Friday, September 14.

Call of Duty Zombies Chronicles 2 rumoured to release with CoD: Vanguard – Dexerto
Call of Duty Zombies Chronicles 2 rumoured to release with CoD: Vanguard ActivisionA host of Call of Duty: Zombies fans recently called for a new installment of Zombie Chronicles. Now, it seems their prayers have been answered thanks to a new leak. Released in May 2017, the original Zombies Chronicles expansion pack saw the return of fan-favorite maps. Packaged together from different eras of the Zombies saga, the DLC was hit with players looking to revisit iconic arenas such as Kino Der Toten, Shi No Numa, and Ascension. Even with the hefty price tag included, the quality of the remastered maps was exceptional within the Black Ops III engine. Since Zombies Chronicles was released, there hasn’t been any tangible word on whether a follow-up expansion could see the light of the day. However, that could all be about to change as leakers have suggested that a fresh expansion has been in the works for quite some time. When will Zombies Chronicles 2 release? According to reliable Call of Duty leaker Tom Henderson, a fresh expansion has been in the works for longer than we think. Read More: CoD Zombies Season 5 update patch notes – Until the recent release of Mauer Der Toten, many thought this would be the last map in the Cold War cycle. Henderson dispelled these claims himself in June, including more news than people expected too. Not only is Mauer Der Toten the penultimate map, but is possibly a precursor to Zombies Chronicles 2 rounding out the Cold War cycle. The development of the highly anticipated second expansion has allegedly seen most of its maps completed. It is currently unclear whether Treyarch will be given the go-ahead by Activision to release it with Cold War, as the reveal of Vanguard is due in the weeks ahead. Hearing rumors that the BOCW Berlin map is the last DLC zombies map – This isn’t the case. There’s one more planned for September and Treyarch still have “”Chronicles 2 maps”” ready to go, but I’m not sure if those will release during BOCW. — Tom Henderson (@_Tom_Henderson_) June 14, 2021 Given that Cold War itself works on a different iteration of the CoD engine, it’d be curious to see whether Zombies Chronicles 2’s long development cycle has always been intended for Vanguard. The latter could be the true reason, as substantiated by reputable leaker Zesty, around the same time as Henderson’s original statement. Zombies may have a loyal fanbase but selling the expansion could be difficult in a time where Activision is juggling Modern Warfare, Warzone, and Cold War respectively. As Modern Warfare begins to be phased out for Cold War and Vanguard to take its place, it seems more likely that Zombies Chronicles 2 will be a Vanguard-orientated addition. https://twitter.com/ZestyCODLeaks/status/1422326772893421577?s=20 More hints towards classic Zombies mayhem have appeared in Warzone’s marketing too. YouTuber CodeNamePizza sharply pointed out the inclusion of “Sally” on some new key art. As any Zombies fan knows, “Mustang and Sally” were the nicknames for the iconic pack-a-punched versions of the Colt 1911 in the original Black Ops. Season 5 Teaser Image “Sally”👀 Zombies Chronicles 2👀🍕 pic.twitter.com/H20VM7o4OD — PIZZA🍕 (@CodeNamePizza) August 3, 2021 Vanguard’s reveal is getting closer by the day, so, hopefully, we’ll be back in legendary Zombies maps sooner than later.

Call of Duty YouTube page leaks Modern Warfare game art, sneak peek clip, and release date – Dexerto
Call of Duty YouTube page leaks Modern Warfare game art, sneak peek clip, and release date Call of DutyThe official YouTube page of Call of Duty has apparently leaked key game art and a short sneak peek at the next installment of the popular first-person-shooter series. On May 29, Activision and Infinity Ward finally gave the CoD community some news regarding the upcoming game, teasing that the first official reveal for the title would take place on May 30. The reveal will be taking place via a special livestream on YouTube, and fans were able to go onto the YouTube page and see the stream already scheduled. However, aside from scheduling the stream, it appears that Activision had gone ahead and already uploaded some content beforehand, which resulted in some users getting previews of the reveal a day early. The image below was taken from the preview, and although it is very blurry and low resolution, it still confirms that the game will indeed be called Modern Warfare, and will have a release date in October 2019. 500Activision were very prompt in taking the scheduled content down, but not before leaks of the reveal started to surface online, taken directly from the scheduled YouTube stream. Before it was disabled, users were able to capture a short clip of the preview, which featured soldiers coming out of the shadows, skydiving out of a military plane, and climbing over a vehicle in some sort of modern city. The preview concludes with a screen that includes “May 30 10:00 AM PT” confirming the date and time that the reveal will take place. If you click on the YouTube link on the Call of Duty Twitter page (before it says “Premiere in 23 hours”) it says the reveal trailer will be 1 min and 53 seconds. pic.twitter.com/KxMFKYI8ik — Call of Duty News (@charlieINTEL) May 29, 2019 What to expect from Modern Warfare reveal While we won’t know much about the upcoming Modern Warfare game until it’s officially revealed on May 30, there have been a lot of leaks and rumors about the 2019 title. For one, MW will reportedly be the “most controversial” title yet, which makes sense considering that there have been reports of it featuring a campaign inspired by MW2’s highly controversial ‘No Russian’ mission. All in all, numerous major questions should be answered during the reveal, such as what the Multiplayer will look like, whether or not there will be a battle royale, and more.

We’ve adjusted how Saboteur interacts with the Flanker Basic Training so that it no longer cancels it out and has its own detonation time. – Rifle Grenade Attachment: Buffed explosive min and max damage Old: 25 min damage and 120 max damage – New: 35 min damage and 125 max damage – Explanation: The Rifle Grenade was relatively weak and wasn’t as useful as we intended it to be, so this buff should make it a more viable option. – Launched Basic Training: Buffed by increasing launcher damage when using Launched Basic Training New: Launchers now deal 30% more damage with Launched Basic Training than before – Explanation: When we rolled out our Divisions Overhaul in April, we nerfed the strength of launchers to ensure that they wouldn’t dominate the play space and would rather be used primarily to take out Scorestreaks. This change makes this Basic Training and the use of launches a better option for a wider variety of playstyles. – Bayonet Charge/Attachment: Added a sprint speed increase while charging New: +4% sprint speed – Explanation: With the addition of unlimited sprint for all, the Bayonet Charge lost its movement advantage, so we added a speed increase while charging that makes it more viable for closing space between you and an enemy. – Tactical Knife Attachment: Buffed by adding a melee speed increase when you have Tactical Knife Attachment equipped New: 15% quicker than standard melee speed – Explanation: Now that Tactical Knife fills an Attachment slot, there is less of a reason to use it over a melee weapon. This small buff makes it more usable. – Shifty Basic Training: Buffed by increasing number of additional Pistol Attachments Old: 1 additional pistol attachment – New: 2 additional pistol attachments – Explanation: Shifty Basic Training is currently on the low-end of Basic Training usage. This change should make using pistols more viable outside of the Infantry Division. – GAMEBATTLES/CoDCASTER/ESPORTS MODE Fixed issue in GameBattles where Restricted Items were displaying in default loadouts – Fixed issue where when spectating in CoDCaster mode, players with Infantry Division equipped will not appear to have a Division patch in the Division info display – ZOMBIES Fixed UI issues with the Dynamo variant for Nazi Zombies – Fixed functionality and UI issues with post-match lobbies – Fixed UI issue where notifications where not populating properly – Fixed issue in The Shadowed Throne where ammo was not able to be replenished for the Ripsaw – Fixed issue in The Shadowed Throne where players were able to kill to kill the human, as well as the zombie, in vignettes – Fixed various map exploits on The Shadowed Throne – Fixed issue where splitscreen players lost functionality when simultaneously pressing Back and Select – Fixed issues with completing certain quests in The Shadowed Throne – Fixed UI issue where incorrect rarities were displaying for Supply Drop item cards –

Call of Duty World League Team Packs Are Now Available in CoD: WWII – Dexerto
Call of Duty World League Team Packs Are Now Available in CoD: WWII Call of Duty World League team packs have been released in CoD: WWII and are now available for purchase on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. The packs are sold individually at 500 CoD Points apiece and can be found under ‘CWL Packs’ when approaching the Quartermaster in the Headquarters section of Multiplayer. Each CWL team pack contains a calling card, weapon camo, emblem, helmet, and charm, all themed after the specific team for which the pack is purchased. Currently there are 11 teams for which a pack can be bought: FaZe Clan, eUnited, Luminosity Gaming, Mindfreak, Vitality, Team EnVy, OpTic Gaming, Team Kaliber, Echo Fox, Evil Geniuses, Splyce, Red Reserve, UNILAD, and Rise Nation. There is an additional pack that is available and it contains items themed after the CWL brand itself. Notably missing from the team options available are compLexity Gaming and Tainted Minds. The fact that among the teams included are Vitality, who are no longer in the Pro League, could mean that these team packs were initially intended to be released earlier in the year. Represent your favorite @CODWorldLeague squad with the CWL Team Packs, now available in #CODWWII for PS4 and Xbox One. pic.twitter.com/C6T3a2hZfX — Call of Duty (@CallofDuty) June 28, 2018 This announcement comes days after numerous CWL themed weapon camos began appearing in the game, but it would appear that they had been added early by mistake since they could only be seen on the weapons held by Bots in private matches. While it initially seemed that they were not going to go through with the project, developer Sledgehammer and publisher Activision have decided to add the team packs to the game after all, making WWII the third consecutive CoD title to include esports team cosmetic items. Images of each of the team weapon camos in-game can be viewed here.

Call of Duty World League May Soon be Getting Franchising and Overwatch League Team Owners Will Get First Rights – Dexerto
Call of Duty World League May Soon be Getting Franchising and Overwatch League Team Owners Will Get First Rights It appears that the trend of franchising in esports is getting more and more prevalent as Call of Duty looks to be the next major game to adopt the model. Sources claim that the series’ publishing company Activision will look to introduce the format to the CoD World League as early as later this year, which would suggest that it would be for the Black Ops 4 season. Since its creation, the CWL has primarily used a promotion-relegation format, which means that the slots within the Pro League have been filled by teams based on merit and performance. However, it appears that will not be the case for much longer as Activision will look to sell of team spots and hope to mimic the success of its highly successful Overwatch League, which currently has 12 franchises, all of whom have paid over $20 million for a spot. This was made apparent by the wording Activision used in their 2017 annual report: Furthermore, sources have told ESPN Esports that the owners of the Overwatch League franchises will get first right of negotiation for a CWL franchise spot, per the terms of their contracts with Activision. This means that if and when the CWL does adopt a franchising model, the OWL team owners will get the first chance to purchase a spot. Currently, only the owners of Dallas Fuel (Team EnVy) and the Houston Outlaws (OpTic Gaming) are involved in the professional ranks of Call of Duty esports. While Activision is yet to comment on these reports, all signs point to the Black Ops 4 season of the CWL likely being the first one to have some form of franchising. During the game’s Community Reveal Event in May, Mark Lamia, the chairman of developer company Treyarch, hinted at BO4 being the first CoD title to last longer than one year, which would break the yearly release cycle that the series has had over the past 15 years. “It’s the deepest, most replayable game we’ve ever made across the three pillars of Black Ops 4, multiplayer, zombies and our new mode, blackout. This is a game for every kind of player. It’s a game that’s built to last for years to come.” If this is indeed the case, then franchising would make even more sense for Acitivision and the CWL, considering that two of the biggest esports leagues – OWL and League of Legends Championship Series – both continually update their games rather than releasing new ones.

CWL Pro League announces step in the right direction for Call of Duty coaches – Dexerto
CWL Pro League announces step in the right direction for Call of Duty coaches MLG’s Adam Apicella has announced a significant change to the setup for Call of Duty coaches at the CWL Pro League that should make it significantly easier for them to do their job. Coaches will be able to get more involved in their team’s performance and pre-map prep talk than they have been for a number of years thanks to a dedicated sixth headset being made available for them when the Black Ops 4 Pro League gets underway on February 4. According to Apicella, these headsets will allow the coaches to communicate with their teammates between maps only, so the players will not have a sixth man during the live action. This is a model that is used in a number of top CS:GO tournaments, including the Majors, where coaches can only communicate during freeze time. The decision is a big step forward for teams with coaches, as they have at times struggled to communicate with with their full roster until an entire series has been concluded. “After assessing feedback we will be adding a 6th headset to the main stage for Pro League to allow for Coaches to more easily communicate with their team between MAPS,” Apicella announced on Twitter. After assessing feedback we will be adding a 6th headset to the main stage for Pro League to allow for Coaches to more easily communicate with their team between MAPS. We will assess how this rolls out and adjust accordingly for Open events. — Adam Apicella (@MrAdamAp) January 28, 2019 We reached out for clarification on whether this change will mean that the coaches are now allowed to stand behind their teams at all times but, for the time being at least, the rule remains the same and they will only be allowed on the stage between maps. “Same rule as it is today,” Apicella confirmed to Dexerto. “Only on stage between maps but we will now have a dedicated headset for coaches to easily communicate with all 5 players.” Coaching in professional Call of Duty has been a point of contention for a number of years. During the days of compLexity’s domination in Black Ops 2, some teams and players felt that they had an unfair advantage with Matthew ‘Mr X’ Morello on stage helping with calls mid-game. Unfortunately for some teams and coaches, the rules soon flipped entirely and coaches were restricted to the point that many teams stopped using them. With the CWL’s constant growth, and seeing the importance of coaches in other esports, it’s encouraging to see that MLG and the CWL are making the life of a CoD coach slightly easier moving forward. The CWL Pro League will begin on February 4 and run through to July 5. Teams have a short window to choose a sixth player as a substitute and, due to some top organizations not making the league, there are some big name players up for grabs. Call of Duty: Warzone world records for most kills – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Warzone world records for most kills Infinity WardWith Call of Duty: Warzone integrating Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War, the battle royale’s world records continue to get shattered by top players around the world. Here are the current world records for most kills in a game. Warzone has upsurged into the gaming world’s collective consciousness and, along with the big money earned in major tournaments (and major money) or Twitch streams, world records for kills have taken center stage as well. Following BOCW’s integration in December 2020, many of the game’s most cemented world records have been unseated as a new wave of guns overtakes Verdansk. If you’re going for some world records yourself, or just trying to keep track of your personal records, you can use MyStats for lots of stats on your Warzone games. All Warzone world records Click here to scroll down to event mode records, with the Season 3 Reloaded 80s Action Heroes event. Rules for Warzone World records It’s important to know that there are some rules that must be followed for a world record to count. First, we require video evidence for all records – images of the scoreboard are not enough. Second, any record that has been recorded on very low-level smurf accounts to play against easier opponents is not counted. Any videos that do not show the levels of the players will also not be counted. Any records set in any LTM or event modes also do not count. If two teams/players hold the same record, whoever got the record first will take the title. Warzone Solos World Record In January 2021, American streamer Rallied had beaten Russian streamer Recrent’s Warzone Solos world record by just one kill, notching 44. Now, a month later, Brazilian streamer iNewwz has usurped the Solos throne with an impressive 47 kills. Rocking a heavy-hitting CR-56 AMAX and a hipfire-focused MAC-10 loadout, iNewwz stormed through his lobby with UAVs and Advanced UAVs galore — gutting crouched campers in every Verdansk nook and cranny. Unlike typical MAC-10 classes, iNewwz’s version opts for a laser (presumably the 5mw) and a Wire Stock, the former fully enabling him to secure quick kills from the hip. Warzone Duos World Record From July 2020 all the way through until January 2021, ItsDerekMay and LIAM held the Duos record. Their 76 kill game had them leading the pack until a 14-year old did them one better. Portuguese streamer Nistaf carried his dad BabaYuki to a whopping 79 kill win on January 5. The young gun put up 61 kills by himself with over 17,000 damage to his name. You can watch the full run below. Warzone Trios World Record Several months after breaking the Trios record a first time, Facebook streamers Dizi and xDaltt have doubled up, shattering the record, but this time with DonLucky instead of xSebas. Originally, Dizi, Daltt and Sebas set a strong record of 110 kills — with 46, 35 and 29 kills, respectively. But this time, with pre-nerf DMRs and Diamattis, Dizi and Daltt leveled up as DonLucky led the group in damage with a shocking 14,229, hitting a deadly 42 kills. Daltt, meanwhile, piled on 43 and Dizi totaled 44 — an incredible sum, these guys are officially running the Trios world record game. Warzone Quads (150) World Record A group of upcoming Warzone streamers broke the Quads World Record with 143, after it stood tall for nearly eight months. Then, just about two months later, the record has been absolutely shattered. ScummN, who set the former record, paired with Newbz to face against Aydan and Almond in a 2v2 wager. By the end of that wager, though, Aydan and Almond had each racked up 40-plus kills, the opposite pairing each with 30-plus, and it became clear that a record-breaking performance was in the cards. By the end of he match, the four were thanking the lobby gods for their first Bronze competition and absolutely dismantling Verdansk. Eventually the new record became apparent: 162 kills, more than the amount of players who initially drop onto the battlefield. Absurd. Warzone Solo vs Duos World Record For three consecutive records, it was former Call of Duty League substitute Charlie ‘MuTeX’ Saouma who dominated Solos vs Duos. But that changed on December 30, as the renowned Jordan ‘HusKerrs’ Thomas got his second current record by flying past MuTeX’s former record of 50 with an insane 54. Numerous world records have been broken since the Black Ops Cold War integration changed the Warzone meta and this match was no exception, as HusKerrs capitalized on the ranged supremacy of his DMR and potent close-quarters MAC-10 for absolute lobby demolition. Obviously ecstatic with his performance, he later said on stream that the “solos duos game made his whole day.” 🚨 New #Warzone World Record: @HusKerrs gets 54 kills to beat the Solo vs Duos record by 4 🎖️ pic.twitter.com/tm3k3QycgA — Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) December 30, 2020 Warzone Solo vs Trios World Record For the true elites of the game, going up against Trios as a solo player can be a perfect setting to feast kills like Aydan did to an impressive degree. While practicing in the opening game of his stream, Aydan dropped into a trios lobby by himself and casually dropped 52 kills before getting taken out. (Timestamp at 11:02) Warzone Solo vs Quads (150) World Record Racking up kills as a solo in Quads is a gargantuan feat, but Mutex made history by hitting an absurd 61 kills, but unfortunately not being able to take home the victory royale. While Aydan had set what felt like an insurmountable record with 60 solo kills, Mutex took his obnoxious CR-56 Amax and Bullfrog SMG to Verdansk and sauced the entire lobby. If Mutex was able to stay alive until the very end of the game, he could have easily managed to rack up a few more kills, making it even harder for anyone to beat his record. However, with a record of 61 kills in solo quads, that won’t be happening anytime soon. Warzone Duos vs Trios World Record The DMR/Mac-10 meta that’s dominated Warzone since the Black Ops Cold War integration has now resulted in another record being broken: Duos vs Trios. The pair of GhanimeGaming and The Modz put together a whopping 90 kills on January 10, with the former himself getting 54 eliminations, a total that very few have reached regardless of the mode. The duo beat the previous record holders – xUnRationaL and aHTracT – by 4 kills, although the combined damage of the new record was lower than the last one. Warzone Duos vs Quads (150) World Record Numerous world records have been broken since Black Ops Cold War’s integration, but none as destructively as Duos vs Quads. On January 10, SuperEvan and Newbz capped off a couple months of big tournament victories with an absurd 107 kills on Verdansk — 22 higher than the former record set by xUnRationaL and Stukawaki. With the DMR and MAC-10 in hand, the two streamers and competitors were gifted a beautiful lobby and capitalized by piling on the kills. Warzone Trios vs Quads (150) Record ZLaner seems to be the Trio vs Quads master, setting a new record for 119 kills alongside picNICK and Oakboi. The previous record was also held by himself, alongside Warzone legends Aydan and HusKerrs, with 109. It seemed impossible to break that, but he’s bested it by 10 with this trio. In fact, to make matters even more impressive, ZLaner disconnected from the game on 32 kills. Had he stayed in, who knows how many more kills they could’ve racked up? You can watch the full VOD of their match on Oakboi’s Facebook VODs. Warzone Trios vs Quads (200) Record Dropping into the 200 player version of Quads, an insane kill record was set by some of the biggest names on Twitch. Current Duos record holder Aydan put up another groundbreaking effort alongside FaZe Swagg and NICKMERCS. Collectively, they tallied up 108 kills on July 5. Aydan stood out with a ridiculous 51 kills alone, while Swagg ended with 38 and NICKMERCS at 19. Season 3 Reloaded event records The Season 3 Reloaded event brought Nakatomi Plaza to Warzone, with Rambo and John McClane causing havoc in Verdansk. While event modes aren’t considered for world record contention, we have to highlight some of the incredible games players have had, with the Plaza vault causing bedlam in Verdansk. Click on the player’s names in the list below to watch the full video. If you know of any other Warzone world record or believe that our current records are incorrect, please let us know by contacting @DexertoINTEL on Twitter with video evidence. Call of Duty: Warzone trick one-shots Helicopters with unusual weapon – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Warzone trick one-shots Helicopters with unusual weapon Infinity WardA bizarre trick to taking down Call of Duty: Warzone’s Helicopters lets players essentially one-shot possibly the most oppressive vehicle in the battle royale. The Helicopter is a four-seater aircraft that can zoom in and out of an area to deliver brutal sweeps of gunfire before either dropping off a squad or getting out of dodge. Because of how scarce mobility can be in Warzone, the Helicopter can be a pivotal craft to man in order to pin down entire teams while making a counterplay near impossible – that is unless you have a UAV drone. The recon tool is a remote-controlled drone that can be used to tag and target players from above. While it can be shot down by an opponent, it can also be used as a flying obstruction for incoming Helicopters. Reddit user ‘Ernis766’ showed how potent the little piece of machinery can be against a loaded chopper, making quick work of the vehicle. As a lone player, Ernis was looking for cover from a distant team that had an angle on them. Turning the corner, they took out their UAV drone to get a better look at what they were up against. Through the drone’s cam, they saw three players loading up into a Helicopter preparing to push on Ernis’ position. Obviously the situation would have been a bit too extreme for one player to take care of by themselves, so they immediately improvised and used the drone to run blockade against the incoming craft. But it was surprising to see how effective the strat proved to be after seeing the Helicopter smoldering in pieces along with their drone. It was strange to not see any new entries in the kill feed after the explosion, but Ernis later confirmed that indeed “they all died” following the collision with the UAV. That’s the best thing about Warzone and similar games in the genre – a player’s best weapon against the rest of the lobby isn’t just in the loadouts they carry, but how they use them in a dire situation. This was an incredible example of that, and something that wouldn’t be surprising if more Warzone players test it out after seeing it.

Call of Duty: Warzone to feature 200 player lobbies in the future – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Warzone to feature 200 player lobbies in the future Infinity WardInfinity Ward has confirmed they’re planning on increasing the amount of players Call of Duty: Warzone can support to 200, a number we first saw in leaks leading up to the game’s launch. Some of the first leaks for Warzone dropped back in February, and 200 player-count lobbies was one of the features that was supposedly coming. That number seemed to be a bit off the mark at release though, with matches only supporting up to 150 players. But it seems developers intend to increase that number going forward. Patrick Kelly, Studio Head at Infinity Ward, told USA TODAY in an interview that they have 200 player lobbies working in the studio, and are currently playtesting the higher player count. “We brought a number of twists to battle royale,” Kelly told USA TODAY. “I do think the world you play in is going to be undeniably unique. For one thing, we are initially going to roll out with 150 players, when you are typically seeing 60 to 100. Actually, I can tell you we are already playing with 200 players. We are going to release that a little bit later.” With 150 players battling it out on a single map, Warzone is already one of the largest battle royales on the market, at least based on player count. Kelly said devs would be upping the player count to 200 “a little bit later” which doesn’t really give us an exact timeframe for when the update could happen, unfortunately. But the fact it’s already being playtested is a good sign that players could see lobby numbers go up sooner, rather than later. So far though, Warzone seems to be faring pretty well for itself on Twitch, with big names like Dr Disrespect, summit1g, shroud, and more all giving the game a go and (mostly) positive reviews on release. Only time will tell whether or not Warzone will be able to keep players around for the long haul, but offering 200 player lobbies – something no other major battle royale does – surely can’t hurt.

Call of Duty Warzone slang terms & call-outs streamers use – Dexerto
Call of Duty Warzone slang terms & call-outs streamers use Infinity WardCall of Duty players have long had their own language and Warzone seems to have its own dialect. In case you’re confused by streamers, or just want to be up-to-date, we’ve compiled the most popular slang terms and call-outs across Verdansk. [jwplayer br5AuoVJ] Time is essential when you’re in the heat of battle; so, any time saved by shortening your dialogue can prove critical. As such, it should be no surprise that CoD enthusiasts have diverse, organic verbiage that transcends multiplayer and Warzone. Here, we’re focusing on the terminology you may hear from streamers on Verdansk. But it’s worth noting that like much slang, these words’ linguistic parameters are fluid. Many of these will continue to evolve in their usage and many can be adapted to fit any type of speech (e.g. “chalk” will be used as both a verb and “chalked” as its adjective). The first section will span CoD slang that has risen in prominence throughout Warzone streams since the game’s inception. The second section will surround certain notable location call-outs. Slang is organic and nebulous so neither section is exhaustive, but they should provide a strong foundation. Call of Duty: Warzone slang terms Beam (noun/verb): refers to a gun that shoots incredibly straight or can be used as a verb to suggest someone was shot directly. – Bertha (n): sometimes known as “Big Bertha” or shortened to “Bertha,” this refers to the Cargo Trucks found around Verdansk. – Bot (n): a bad player, specifically one whose gameplay is predictable enough to easily outduel. – Bouncing Betty (n): a proximity mine. – Breaking cameras (v): when someone does something that grants them an easier perspective than servers will allow you to, with your POV seeing little of them while theirs sees a lot of you. Easy examples include jumping around a corner and snaking a head-glitch. – Chalk (v): as a verb, this means to “end” something. As an adjective, “chalked” would mean that something is over. You can say “let’s chalk it” to suggest the game should be left and restarted or “this is chalked” to explain that a situation is un-winnable. – Comms (n): silence, please. While “comms” traditionally is just shorthand for “communication,” it is now used most popularly when someone wants their teammates to shut up and clear the airways so that they can focus and hear what’s happening around them. – Cracked (adjective): really good. Typically in reference to someone who is playing like they’ve chugged some G-FUEL, making them equally amped up and focused. – Cracked (v): unlike chalk, cracked has two different meanings depending on how it’s used. When used as a verb, you’re saying that someone’s armor has been broken. – Ego chall (v): an evolution of the “chall” term for “challenge,” an ego chall is when you boldly challenge someone because your ego makes you think you can win the fight despite unideal odds. – Fried (v): burnt through someone’s armor and health. You can fry enemies or, unfortunately, get fried. – Heady (n): a head-glitch spot. If someone is on a heady then they’re abusing a spot (e.g. behind a desk) that makes their hitbox very small and hard to hit while offering them the chance to drop down and pop back up, breaking your camera as they shoot at you before you can really see them. – King (n): someone with a Most Wanted contract activated. – Laser (n/v): same as beam. – Lost full (v): a short-hand version of “lost full composure,” for when you’re aware that you got tilted or lost focus. – Melts (v): induces great damage. This traditionally is most used for guns that “melt” people, evoking that the gun melts away health very quickly. – One-shot (adj): also known as “a bullet,” this refers to someone whose armor has been cracked and is now just one shot away from death. Notoriously overused, enemies are rarely one-shot when teammates say they are. – Rat (n): an annoying camper. Used most typically to suggest that someone is hiding and trying to avoid any fair fights. – Self-res (n/v): a short-hand version of “self-revive,” a more phonetically pleasing adaptation of “self-resurrection.” – Shreds (v): melts. Used to evoke the shredding of armor and health off of an opponent. – Sweaty (adj): someone who is trying very hard, likely sweating because of how intensely they’re playing. Can also be used as a noun, with a “sweat” being someone who is solely running meta weapons and playing at full intensity. – Tagged (v): got shots on someone. This is when you’ve hit someone a little, but not enough to crack them. – Twisted (adj): cracked, but the one with positive connotations. – I was TWISTED Saturday night. Did i hit the pilot as well? Of course, all of these expressions are subject to change and evolve, but knowing some of them in their current state of parlance could be helpful and, hopefully, save you some time when notching kills in Warzone And, if you and your friends are struggling to get back into the game after getting killed, check out our article breaking down Gulag-specific call-outs.

Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific map & Vanguard Season 1 officially delayed – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific map & Vanguard Season 1 officially delayed ActivisionCall of Duty’s developers have officially delayed the launch of Warzone’s Pacific map and Vanguard Season 1 by one week, according to a tweet posted on November 19. For over 600 days, Warzone players have dropped into the chaos of Verdansk for season upon season — spanning both Modern Warfare 2019 and Black Ops Cold War. Now, with Vanguard’s release, many have turned their eyes to a new, exotic map: Pacific, Caldera. But that eager anticipation for a new Warzone environment is put on hold, as the devs revealed that things are delayed. Instead of being able to jump into Pacific and Vanguard Season 1 on December 2, the studios expect the new elements to be available to everyone on December 9 instead. Warzone Pacific & Vanguard Season 1 delayed https://twitter.com/CallofDuty/status/1461759071724441617 Thus far, the only information we have is the tweet shared above. In it, CoD explains that Vanguard and Warzone’s integrated Season 1 will go live on December 8. While the Battle Pass and new multiplayer season are expected to go live on that date, Warzone will only be available to Vanguard players for private access. The next day, December 9, the free-to-play game’s Pacific offerings will be made available to all. Warzone players disappointed by Pacific’s delay As of yet, the developers have not revealed why the launches are postponed and details remain murky. Considering how chaotic the Black Ops Cold War integration was, no one would have been surprised if this new, bigger change got off to a rocky start as well. Still, few expected a delay and streamers like FaZe Swagg are already responding with… a lack of enthusiasm. The Warzone pro reacted to the news with a bunch of dots, suggesting some semblance of speechless sorrow. We will update whenever news comes to light, particularly if there are any further delays. But, for now at least, players can go ahead and move the circle in their calendar one week forward.

Call of Duty: Warzone on mobile all but confirmed by job listing – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Warzone on mobile all but confirmed by job listing Activision-BlizzardWhile rumors regarding the development of Warzone for mobile devices may have dwindled down in recent months, new job listings from Activision-Blizzard seemingly confirm the development of the game. Warzone has been a massive success for Activision since its launch on console and PC in March 2019, but the potential for the game on mobile has never been discussed by the publisher. With Call of Duty Mobile reaching hundreds of millions of downloads, and other battle royale games such as Fortnite embracing the mobile market, there was always discussion about if Warzone would make the jump. New LinkedIn posts from Activision-Blizzard and subsequent job listings have reinforced the notion that Warzone is coming to iOS/Android. Warzone mobile confirmed? Activision-Blizzard posted a call to arms for mobile developers on LinkedIn, as they are looking to expand their work pool to add more roles within the mobile division of Call of Duty. The post itself has some interesting notes: “Activision Mobile has put up new roles! Teams are focused on Live Operations and content expansion across CoD Mobile and Warzone. Our dev teams are dedicated to mobile and comprised of all major disciplines.” It appears they are hiring new faces to help produce a mobile iteration of Warzone on iOS/Android, and this is not the only clue Activision-Blizzard has posted in relation to the development of the game. Read More: Is Terminator coming to Warzone? – In September 2020, they posted a job listing for the role of ‘Executive Producer-Mobile’, the person hired for this role would lead the integration of Warzone’s core mechanics onto mobile devices. While Activision-Blizzard has not directly announced they are developing Warzone for mobile devices, it appears they are trying to piece together the right staff to make this possible. More job listings Not only has Activision-Blizzard posted the May 3 LinkedIn post, but they have also quietly added over 50 new roles into their mobile department on their careers page. A large portion of these jobs is listed to help develop a new mobile title that the company is currently working on. With CoD Mobile being a large hit worldwide, we can assume they are looking to replicate this success with Warzone; and do not see why it cannot climb to the top of mobile games. As noted above, Activision-Blizzard has not directly announced they are developing CoD Warzone for mobile devices, but we can hope this announcement is in the pipeline for some time this year.

Call of Duty Warzone night mode looks stunning – but would it work? – Dexerto
Call of Duty Warzone night mode looks stunning – but would it work? Infinity WardWarzone drops 150 players into the bright and sunny Verdansk where only one team will come out alive. But what would happen if a dark and gloomy twist was added to the popular battle royale mode? Infinity Ward’s take on the battle royale genre has drawn over 50 million players in its first few weeks on the market. The developers have been quick to implement a wide array of new features and even a few quirky playlists, sometimes at a frustrating cost, however. Looking for a major shakeup to the new release, avid players have begun speculating just how a night-time mode would play out in Warzone. What would a night-mode look like in Warzone? “What if Warzone had a night-time?” Reddit user ‘shootballz’ asked on April 23 while presenting their take on the new twist. Gone is the brightness that players have grown accustomed to on the enormous map. Instead, the new depiction shows a more quiet and ominous locale basking in the moonlight. Buildings are lit up from the inside but not a single streetlight can be found in the picture. Players would have to be more vigilant than ever before in order to spot teams in the shadows. How would it play? Modern Warfare’s Multiplayer component features a few maps designed specifically for Night-Vision modes already. Given that various lighting systems are already in place, this could be a natural fit. While players may struggle to spot enemies in the distance on the dimly lit battlefield, all competitors could come equipped with a set of night vision goggles. Perhaps the battle royale mode features a dynamic day and night cycle that changes on the fly to push new gameplay experiences. Or maybe the night-time mode will be restricted to its own exclusive playlist. Either way, it could be a great addition to keep veteran players on their toes. Night-modes have been highly requested in countless other battle royale titles and a few games have made it work. Apex Legends fans initially clamored for a new version of King’s Canyon and developers at Respawn Entertainment provided a limited time playlist in response. Perhaps Infinity Ward will be the next to introduce a new variant. Only time will tell.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile release date revealed – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile release date revealed ActivisionWarzone Mobile has officially been given a launch date, and it’s coming very soon, as players gear up to drop into Verdansk once again for the first time in almost 3 years, as well as Rebirth Island. After months of speculation, the free-to-play mobile title is officially set to release on March 21, 2024, on both iOS and Android. Players will be able to drop into both Verdansk and Rebirth Island at launch, as well as play some of the regular multiplayer maps such as Shoot House or Shipment. Not only that, but progression in Warzone Mobile will also carry across the mainline Call of Duty titles with Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone on PC/console. Shared features across platforms include: Player Level: Player XP earned on Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile transfers seamlessly over to Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare III and vice versa, so that your Player Level (and Prestige) remains the same regardless of platform. – Weapon Level: Leveling up weapons to earn new Camos and Attachments is a core part of the Call of Duty experience. With shared weapon level progression, you can keep grinding away at Weapon XP both at home and on the go. – Battle Pass Progression: Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile offers shared Battle Pass progress with Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone on both console and PC. Look for the ‘Connected’ tag on Bundles in the Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile in-game Store to confirm cross-inventory compatibility with Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone. – The March 21 release date will be a couple of weeks after the Season 2 Reloaded update, so you can get in on the action before Season 3 kicks off in early April.

Call of Duty: Warzone map – Every location and overview – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Warzone map – Every location and overview Infinity WardModern Warfare’s new battle royale is finally confirmed in the form of Call of Duty: Warzone, with players able to jump into the action in new locations and iconic points of interest in one of the biggest maps ever seen in a battle royale. Somewhat of a successor to Black Ops 4’s Blackout, the first battle royale entry into the Call of Duty franchise, Warzone brings some of Infinity Ward’s most iconic maps to players with a free-flow of nostalgia throughout. Below, we’ve listed all of the locations and an overview of the complete Warzone map, featuring a multitude of points of interest, contracts, and vehicles in the free-to-play title. As you can see, there are almost 20 named locations on the Warzone map, mostly weighted towards the south side of the map, with only three locations named along the northern border. The complete list of locations is as follows: Dam – Military Base – Quarry – Airport – TV Station – Storage Town – Superstore – Boneyard – Train Station – Hospital – Downtown – Stadium – Lumber – Farmland – Prison (Gulag) – Port – Park – Promenade East – Promenade West – Hills – Certain locations are definitely recognizable from previous iterations of Call of Duty games, such as Airport and TV Station, which are recreations of Terminal and Broadcast respectively. There’s also the likes of Boneyard, which appears to be Modern Warfare 2’s Scrapyard, although a lot of the map looks to be very fresh so you don’t feel that you’re revisiting old areas over and over again. The map itself is considerably bigger than the Blackout map, which seems necessary given how much they’ve packed into it. Warzone looks set to bring a completely new style to battle royale, emulating some of the best features of the most successful ones before it, as well as featuring an economy complete with contracts, killstreaks and more. Naturally, we imagine a lot of players will look to drop at the likes of Airport and Boneyard straight away – so you best bring your A-game if you plan on going there.

Call of Duty: Warzone exploit stops players from getting kills and loot – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Warzone exploit stops players from getting kills and loot Activision / 343 IndustriesCall of Duty: Warzone players have suggested Infinity Ward introduce post-match cooldowns for leaving games early, as a problem with getting credit for kills continues. Infinity Ward’s venture into the battle royale realm has received heaps of praise since its release, earning its place as the fastest-growing non-mobile game of all-time. But players dropping into Verdansk can’t help but notice one major flaw. Specifically, that flaw relates to kills – or lack thereof – due to an exploit that is continuing to ruin the experience, especially for those chasing those elusive Warzone world records. Down but not out The crux of the issue lies with the fact that players aren’t racking up any kills for players who leave immediately after being downed. And while Infinity Ward are releasing a fix for players who disconnect from a match and don’t drop any loot, there is nothing in the pipeline to mitigate the above issue. Reddit user ‘Drexx_B’ vented their frustrations to the Call of Duty: Warzone subreddit, where they submitted a call to arms with Activision to rectify the issue. “Every time I knock someone, they leave the game before I finish them off, and I get no kill. This is annoying and Activision should do something about it,” the Redditor wrote. Should Infinity Ward introduce a leaving penalty? In light of the community’s concerns regarding premature leavers, a cooldown period for leaving has been suggested by some. One user commented suggesting “They should penalize people who leave the game before they are fully dead and before all their teammates are dead.” Various suggestions were made in terms of the length of the cooldown period, ranging from 10-30 minutes for early leavers. Warzone’s battle royale counterpart, Apex Legends, has implemented a similar system to punish those who prematurely abandon matches in their ranked playlist, which also shares the same three-man squad system. Of course, Infinity Ward would have plenty of hurdles to overcome to implement such a system in Warzone. What would they qualify as ‘abandoning the match?’ Would it be pre or post-Gulag? Moreover, how would the developers differentiate between accidental disconnects and those who intentionally leave?

Call of Duty: Warzone duos, squads, and LTMs leaked – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Warzone duos, squads, and LTMs leaked Infinity WardA Call of Duty leaker has revealed that a number of new variants will soon be making their way to Warzone – including a much asked for duos playlist and a few limited-time modes. Since it was finally released on March 10, Call of Duty: Warzone has proven to be pretty popular with battle royale players – with over 30 million players dropping in for at least one match on the sprawling map. Upon its release, Warzone only had a Trios mode available – though you could play solos and duos by changing the don’t fill option in the pre-game lobby. A recent update finally dropped a bonafide solos mode, but that hasn’t stopped fans asking for more – including fully-fledged duos and squads modes. According to Call of Duty leaker Senescallo, their prayers could finally be answered when Modern Warfare enters its third season of content in April. The reliable leaker, who revealed a number of details about Warzone prior to its release, claims that there is a duo and squad mode in the works – with the latter being called Quads, thus meaning there will be four players to a team. Senescallo also claims that a number of other modes would be added as well, each with their own twist. High Action mode would see the gas close in quicker, Shotty Snipers would only have shotguns and snipers on the map, while One Shot would remove loadout drops and allow players to score shot headshots for kills. These variants of the battle royale may sound like limited-time-only modes, but as the leaker didn’t drop any further information, it’s unknown whether or not this will be the case. Senescallo also claimed that the battle royale would be adding a Hardcore and Realism mode, but again, there was no additional information. The third season for Modern Warfare is set to kick off in early April, so we won’t have to wait long to if their claims are accurate or not.

Call of Duty: Warzone devs officially call campers ‘cowards’ – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Warzone devs officially call campers ‘cowards’ ActivisionCall of Duty’s developers finally made their opinion clear on Warzone’s controversial campers. According to the latest Activision blog, the studios agree with much of the community: camping is cowardly. Camping is a divisive topic in battle royales. Some think it’s a fundamental strategy, while others would rather you play aggressively. This former point is true, as the point of a BR is survival and camping can be a good way to ensure you don’t get shot at too often (and bullets are bad for survival). But that doesn’t stop people from disliking the playstyle and even coming up with ideas to counter it. As far as how the game’s developers felt about it, we couldn’t be sure. That is until they released patch notes for the Season 6 Halloween Haunting event. And, to some surprise, they made it quite clear that camping is wimpish behavior. Warzone devs call campers ‘cowards’ In the Haunting event, there is a Ghosts of Verdansk mode. While similar to last year’s Zombie Royale, this version has a “Fear” meter — which raises when players get scared. And, as you can see in the screenshot above, devs classify camping as scared behavior (right alongside seeing your teammates downed and the like). To be even more specific, the patch notes call camping “cowardice.” There’s a time and a place for everything, including playing aggressively or camping. But, as far as honorable tactics go, Warzone’s devs seem to lean the same way that players do. You should camp sometimes, it’s smart to do so. Nevertheless, it might be worth practicing aggression and getting out there for some action. If you don’t, then there’s a good chance the words of the game’s actual developers might start to creep in your subconscious… And no one wants to be called a coward by the people who made the game they’re playing.

Call of Duty: Warzone details leaked by Twitch and YouTuber Chaos – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Warzone details leaked by Twitch and YouTuber Chaos Infinity WardA number of Call of Duty: Warzone leaks have taken place, with Twitch uploading a number of advertisements for the battle royale early to the streaming site, while YouTuber Chaos accidentally released an 11-minute video breaking down the mode. Ever since Modern Warfare was first announced, leaks have circulated about the prospect of a battle royale appearing in the game, following the success of Treyarch’s mode Blackout when it released alongside Black Ops 4 in 2018. For weeks, fans have been eagerly anticipating the release of the battle royale, with multiple data miners and leakers dropping clues and hints about what is to come – while the start of Modern Warfare’s Season 2 introduced a strange “Classified” section specifically for Warzone, as a further number of hints and teasers appeared in-game as well, pointing towards potential release dates and locations featured in the mode. While there is no official word from Infinity Ward on the release of Warzone or potential dates for announcements to be made, YouTuber Chaos seems to have jumped the gun, and uploaded an 11-minute video about the battle royale mode, much to the surprise of those who managed to watch the video. The video originally went live late on Sunday, March 8, but was quickly unlisted, with it appearing that Chaos scheduled the upload for the wrong date and YouTube publishing the video to his audience. While the video was made private, over 10,000 people were able to watch it before it was removed from the site entirely, with those who managed to catch it able to watch 11 minutes of gameplay recorded by the YouTuber when he attended Infinity Ward’s studio to test the game. In it, the YouTuber expanded on rumors that the game will be free-to-play, talked about the return of legendary maps as locations, and gave a first-look at gameplay from Warzone. Chaos also stated that the mode is “available now,” but Warzone is not expected to release on Monday, March 9. Elsewhere, Twitch also apparently jumped the gun, uploading a number of advertisements to the streaming platform mention Warzone, with the images encouraging players to “join now,” perhaps confirming that the mode’s official release is taking place in the very near future. Call of Duty: Warzone Cash explained – Respawns, killstreaks, more – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Warzone Cash explained – Respawns, killstreaks, more YouTube: Infinity WardAfter much anticipation, Modern Warfare’s battle royale is confirmed, with Call of Duty: Warzone introducing an in-game currency, unlike anything we’ve seen in the genre before. How will it work and what can you buy? Here’s everything you need to know. The highly anticipated Call of Duty: Warzone battle royale has officially been announced, and features an in-game economy system that will be pivotal to your team’s success — from dictating respawns to buying killstreaks, cash runs through Warzone’s veins. Being the master of coin will be vital if you hope to secure victories in Call of Duty: Warzone, so let’s find out exactly what role cash will play in Warzone. Call of Duty: Warzone: Buy Stations Every player will enter every match with $0 in their kitty. As players begin to loot for weapons and equipment, there will be piles of cash lying around the map, ready for combatants to grab. Each stack of cash will hold different quantities, depending on the rarity of the loot zone, so scavenging as much cash as possible will be essential during the early stages of the game. As mentioned earlier, Warzone revolves around its in-game currency system, which will allow players to purchase items from Buy Stations — which are dotted all around the map. Buy Stations are visible on the map, and a player’s nearest station can be marked for convenience. The cash which players gather around the map can be used at any Buy Station to purchase items, from equipment to killstreaks. Call of Duty: Warzone: Respawning Players will need to be strategic on how they spend their cash (i.e., whether to stock up on equipment, or whether to save up for a killstreak or a potential downed teammate later down the line). As with most items in Warzone, players can share cash between their squad by dropping a certain portion of their stack of cash. This adds another strategic element to Warzone, as a team can strategically pool their cash together to purchase a killstreak for a potential endgame scenario. Not only will Buy Stations facilitate the ability to purchase essential equipment, but they will also allow players to buy back downed allies if they fail to make it through the Gulag — where eliminated players go head-to-head in a Cage Match style battle to earn their respawn back into the Warzone. Call of Duty: Warzone: Killstreaks As you may have gathered, players cannot earn killstreaks via the conventional way of accruing kills in multiplayer. Streaks are purchased via Buy Stations or (very rarely) found while looting. In terms of the killstreaks that are available to players, they will operate in a similar capacity to Call of Duty’s multiplayer. So staple streaks like a UAV system and Precision Airstrikes will still be available, and as the lethality of each streak increases, so will the cost at each Buy Station. So regardless of your strategy, you will need to learn how to manage your cash wisely otherwise you and your team could come up short towards the endgame of Warzone matches.

Fans of the legendary first-person shooter franchise have been clamoring for news about a possible battle royale, with data miners and leakers teasing that they would soon be diving into a brand-new map following the success of Treyarch’s Blackout in Black Ops 4. After all the speculation and some teases in Modern Warfare itself, Infinity Ward have finally confirmed that Warzone is on its way to Call of Duty fans around the world, with the game releasing for free on all platforms in an announcement on Monday, March 9. Call of Duty: Warzone confirmed Infinity Ward officially released the first trailer for Call of Duty: Warzone on Monday, March 9, giving fans a look at what they can expect when the mode goes live. 150 players will dive into one of the largest battle royale maps ever, complete with legendary locations from past titles like Terminal, Scrapyard, and Broadcast, along with some specially-designed new points-of-interest designed by the developers. Warzone is unlike any battle royale we’ve ever seen before though. While games like Fortnite and Apex Legends have introduced ways to respawn in the past, Infinity Ward have created a fascinating new system that is unlike anything we’ve seen before. Players collect cash while searching for loot around the map, which can then be exchanged at Buy Stations to revive a fallen comrade at a hefty price. If you’ve been eliminated early in the match though, you can actually earn your way back into the action at the Gulag, a 1v1 showdown where the winner jumps back into the action and the loser hopes their teammates are flush with cash. Free to play for everyone. Drop in tomorrow March 10th. #FreeCallofDuty pic.twitter.com/URU1Yg4wjk— Call of Duty (@CallofDuty) March 9, 2020 For those eager to get into the action, the good news is that you won’t have long to wait before you can jump into Infinity Ward’s battle royale map, with the Classified tab now reading as a countdown which is set to expire on Tuesday, March 10. Does Call of Duty give you easier lobbies if you spend money? Patent sparks pay-to-win claims – Dexerto
Does Call of Duty give you easier lobbies if you spend money? Patent sparks pay-to-win claims ActivisionA patent filed by Activision from 2019 has caught the eye of CoD players again, who claim that spending money on microtransactions triggers a change in matchmaking, to give you easier opponents. But is it true – is Call of Duty and Warzone pay-to-win, giving you “bot lobbies” if you spend money? Back in 2019, an Activision patent caught the CoD community’s eye. The patent was large and discussed many aspects of a multiplayer matchmaking system, but the most controversial point was related to in-game purchases. The patent states, “Conventional systems further fail to leverage matchmaking processes in other contexts, such as influencing game-related purchases.” It was immediately theorized that SBMM (skill-based matchmaking) could be impacted by a player’s in-game purchases. In 2023, the patent is being discussed once again, as players are convinced that after buying cosmetics, they are placed in lobbies against weaker players in Warzone. Is Warzone SBMM affected by spending money? This same issue was actually raised in 2021 too. Based on the patent, the assumption is that if a lower-skilled player gets killed by a skin for a weapon, especially a weapon they use, they may be motivated to buy that skin themselves. However, Activision has previously denied this, stating that although this system had been patented, it had never been used in-game. Despite this, some are absolutely convinced this system is in place in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare II. Call of Duty YouTuber strahfe tweeted on May 31, “If you were ever wondering why you get bot lobbies after purchasing a new skin / cosmetic… Patented by Activision btw.” Although, strahfe did add, “This is all not 100% proof that these systems are actively being used within Call of Duty. More so that they exist under Activision and align with claims of many players and creators including myself.” KRNG member and TikToker WHOH, however, was more adamant, claiming that he could prove the system was being used. After buying a skin and hitting an impressive sniping clip, he proclaimed, “I think it’s safe to say, this clearly works.” But, this is obviously just one example, far from enough evidence to confirm this patented SBMM system is actually being used in Warzone or multiplayer. Due to the nature of matchmaking systems, and to avoid bad actors attempting to exploit them, it’s very uncommon for any game developer to go into specifics about how it works. Else, players would be able to deliberately counter the methods that the system is using. So, for now, it remains undetermined whether in-game purchases have any impact whatsoever on your matchmaking experience or SBMM, and it’s likely to stay unconfirmed forever.

From an increased frame rate to a highly requested FOV slider, there’s no telling what improvements may arrive with Warzone 2, if any. Naturally, this announcement has already caused a wave of backlash. Warzone 2 leaked file size Although not yet confirmed by Activision, it appears Warzone 2 will be a hefty download much like the original. Early leaks point towards a 115GB file size, according to data pulled from the Xbox Store. If this holds true, players will clearly need to make some room on their hard drives once again. The enormous – and constantly growing- file size of the first BR was often a point of contention, and now, it appears the sequel will be no different in that regard. Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 has appeared on the Xbox Store’s backend. It has a file size of 115GB. (via @ALumia_Italia) pic.twitter.com/HiHZu6Vp3C — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) November 11, 2022 Warzone 2 gameplay details Perhaps the biggest change is a complete reset of progression. This means everyone is set to start from scratch once again when Warzone 2 rolls out. Furthermore, we know for certain that Warzone 2 is being “built from the ground up” using an entirely new engine. With a new “play space and new sandbox mode” to boot, technological innovations are expected across the board. One such innovation appears to be swimming. While nothing new to the franchise as a whole, the ability to swim would be a first for this particular CoD BR. Similarly, while various AI-controlled enemies have appeared in the CoD franchise for many years now, systems are being ramped up in all-new ways for Warzone 2. We’re sure to see both friendly and enemy AI scattered across the battlefield in the upcoming BR sequel. Strongholds, in particular, house some of the map’s toughest AI opponents. In clearing out these hostile areas and completing a number of key objectives, players can earn high-tier loot and a surplus of cash. Warzone 2 also introduces a brand new Gulag experience, offering 2v2 battles with random players, and even throwing AI enemies into the mix as well. Warzone 2 map Al Mazrah will launch alongside Warzone 2. While we could still see Verdansk, Rebirth Island, and Caldera integrated into separate playlists down the line, Al Mazrah is Warzone 2’s primary map. This new layout, set in the Republic of Adal, features 18 POIs, and some of which are inspired by classic CoD maps. For example, the POI Airport draws inspiration from the classic Modern Warfare 2 map Terminal. Prominent insider Tom Henderson has also outlined that a second map is now in development for Warzone 2 as well. Similar to the first title, the above will reportedly serve as the core BR map, while a second addition arriving later down the line will serve as a bite-sized BR offering akin to Rebirth Island. This smaller map is currently in early development, according to Henderson, meaning we may not see it until late 2023. What happens to the original Warzone? While Warzone 2 is wiping the slate clean with all new systems, content, and progression, the existing Warzone title is set to continue on as a separate experience known as Warzone: Caldera. All of your existing cosmetics and equipment can all still be accessed here in the original mode, but not in Warzone 2. Just the standard Battle Royale playlist will be on offer upon its relaunch and as the name implies, only on Caldera. Both Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep will be removed from the application. Although no plans have yet been confirmed, it appears we can expect these smaller maps to reemerge in Warzone 2 later down the line.

Call of Duty voice chat to get AI moderation to catch & punish “toxic” players – Dexerto
Call of Duty voice chat to get AI moderation to catch & punish “toxic” players ActivisionModern Warfare 3 will be the first Call of Duty game to feature voice chat AI moderation, in a bid to combat toxicity, including hate speech, discriminatory language, harassment and more. Voice chat toxicity has long been a problem in Call of Duty titles, dating back to the earliest days of online multiplayer gameplay, with trolls able to hide behind their gamertags and face little to no punishment for using abusive language. In order to make voice chat less of a safe haven for people who do use abusive language, Activision will be teaming up with Modulate to utilize their AI-powered ToxMod in the future. An initial beta rollout of the voice chat moderation technology will begin in North America on August 30 in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone, to be followed by a full worldwide release (excluding Asia) in Modern Warfare 3 on November 10. Support will begin in English with additional languages to follow at a later date “There’s no place for disruptive behavior or harassment in games ever,” said Michael Vance, Chief Technology Officer at Activision. “Tackling disruptive voice chat particularly has long been an extraordinary challenge across gaming. “With this collaboration, we are now bringing Modulate’s state-of-the-art machine learning technology that can scale in real-time for a global level of enforcement. This is a critical step forward to creating and maintaining a fun, fair and welcoming experience for all players.” Players who do not want their voice chat to be moderated in-game are advised to turn off their voice chat options. If judged to be using abusive language in voice chat, players can be subject to suspensions or, in extreme cases, permanent bans from playing. Since the launch of Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty’s existing anti-toxicity moderation has restricted voice and/or text chat to over 1 million accounts detected to have violated the Call of Duty Code of Conduct. While they say the new ToxMod will allow for “trash talk” and friendly banter, anything that exceeds that will not be tolerated. This marks a notable step forward for Call of Duty, which has not allowed for voice chat reporting in recent years, and should help to ensure voice chat doesn’t descend into disarray as it often can in COD.

Call of Duty Vanguard’s bloom rework should make hitting shots way easier – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard’s bloom rework should make hitting shots way easier ActivisionAfter weeks of complaints, Call of Duty: Vanguard’s devs seem to have entirely reworked the controversial “bloom” mechanic. YouTuber XclusiveAce showed just how drastic the new buffed accuracy makes the game’s guns. To put it simply, bullet bloom describes the area in which your gunfire spreads. Instead of every shot landing where your crosshair is placed, bloom makes bullets disperse — either narrowly or widely, depending on the weapon. The mechanic exists in games like Overwatch, where Soldier 76 players shoot in bursts to maximize accuracy by minimizing the increase in bloom (or bullet spread) the longer you fire. But it’s relatively new to Call of Duty with Vanguard and… players were not fans of the addition. Now, complaint upon complaint, Sledgehammer Games have nerfed bloom’s impact — thereby buffing a number of guns’ accuracy. In essence, the November 18 patch is going to make killing the bad guys a lot easier. Call of Duty Vanguard bloom fix makes guns way more accurate As you can see in the screenshot of XclusiveAce’s video, the spread of fire for a number of guns has been vastly reduced. This should mean those weapons are much more accurate and players are less likely to run into issues where they’re failing to get hitmarkers they expected to. In Ace’s full video, he explains that literally every single gun that he tested seemed to have its bloom decreased significantly. Describing bloom as “random inaccuracy with your gun,” it should be clear why minimizing that bloom should delight players. New Vanguard gun bloom for all weapons after November 18 patch For those who don’t want to watch Ace’s full video, he does share some guns that should clearly be buffed by this bloom change. The two principal assault rifles impacted are the AS44 and Volk, with both going from having “terrible” spreads to ones that feel much more like the pre-buff STG 44. On the submachine gun side, guns like the MP40 and Sten received considerable buffs to their accuracy as well. In total, though, Ace estimated that the overall reduction in bloom — across all weapons — is about 60%. This is a massive change to weapon accuracy and should make it much easier for players to land shots, especially with guns that have easy recoil control and high bullet velocity.

Call of Duty: Vanguard will use same engine as Modern Warfare & Warzone – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Vanguard will use same engine as Modern Warfare & Warzone Sledgehammer GamesThe release of Call of Duty: Vanguard is going to take us back in time yet again to the Second World War, and Sledgehammer Games is going to be taking some tech from previous Call of Duty titles — in particular, Infinity Ward’s popular Modern Warfare & Warzone engine. The Fall season of gaming is slowly approaching us, and fans have an ample amount of titles to look forward to. Most of all, Sledgehammer Games will be venturing back into the CoD franchise, with their release of Vanguard on November 5. Similar to their last entry into the series, Call of Duty: World War II, this time around we’re going to be taking the lead throughout the battles of the Second World War. While they’ve revealed a ton of exciting features thus far, they’ve also talked about some of the technology within the game, and how they are propelling the previous Call of Duty’s engines into the next-gen space. Vanguard to expand on Modern Warfare engine One of the most important aspects when it comes to the development of any new Call of Duty is the technology within the game. Sledgehammer won’t be using their own engine directly when it comes to Vanguard, but they’ll be taking some help from Activision Blizzard and Infinity Ward. Aaron Halon, the Studio Head of Sledgehammer Games spoke on the core technology and how they’re going to be directly working with Infinity Ward’s team on developing the engine. As well, they will be using the same engine that was used in Modern Warfare but taking it a step forward, as they’ll be expanding it to perform optimally for Vanguard. Along with these enhancements from Modern Warfare’s engine, we’re also going to see some improvements in regards to the landscape and textures used within the environment. A picture-perfect world is one of the aims they’re striving for, as visual fidelity will be fully optimized for Vanguard as well. They’ve also iterated how there’s going to be a new damage layer system, that’ll stay over the course of the game, and will accumulate the damage players do to a certain structure. CoD Vanguard will only be 60fps on next-gen Another vital aspect when it comes to new titles releasing across multiple platforms is how they’ll perform on consoles such as the Xbox Series X|S and the PlayStation 5. While many players were hoping to see improvements on previous generations, Sledgehammer Games have confirmed that Vanguard will run at 60FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, similar to recent Call of Duty iterations. Call of Duty: Vanguard will release on November 5, 2021, for PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

Call of Duty: Vanguard will have 20 maps at launch across Europe, North Africa, more – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Vanguard will have 20 maps at launch across Europe, North Africa, more Sledgehammer GamesCall of Duty: Vanguard is Sledgehammer’s latest entry into the CoD franchise, and they aren’t holding back when it comes to maps. Upon release, the game is going to bolster an ample amount of multiple maps for players to jump into, offering more than any CoD game has for years. It’s always an exciting time of the year when we get to learn more information pertaining to the next installment within the Call of Duty franchise, and this time around, it’ll be Sledgehammer Games leading the charge. Their latest entry was Call of Duty WW2, which depicted the Western Front of the Second World War, and Vanguard will stay in the same genre. But, it’ll have a separate focus on the different fronts that we aren’t typically used to battling in. But, with the release of Call of Duty: Vanguard, they’ll also be releasing a wide array of multiplayer maps for players to jump into on day one, and they’ll be centered around these various regions. Call of Duty: Vanguard to feature 20 maps on day one Maps are without a doubt one of the most important components of any CoD when they release, and while other titles have released some stellar maps in the past, one common complaint in recent years has been the lack of maps available at launch. But, Sledgehammer is rolling out all the stops for Vanguard’s release, as they’ve noted there will be 16 6v6 maps for players to play when the game initially releases. Not only that but there will be four other maps that’ll be for a brand-new game mode! The maps themselves are still under wraps for the time being, but we have a general idea of where they’re going to be set. Vanguard’s multiplayer maps are likely to at least take inspiration from the regions fought on in the campaign, which are as follows: Europe – North Africa – Soviet Union – Hawaii – Coral Sea Islands – For the time being, we’ll have to wait and see what exactly the maps will look like, but it’s fair to say we’ll have plenty of options on launch day. Call of Duty: Vanguard will release on November 5, 2021, for PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

Call of Duty: Vanguard & Warzone Season 2 officially delayed – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Vanguard & Warzone Season 2 officially delayed ActivisionCall of Duty’s developers are officially delaying the start of Vanguard and Warzone Season 2. In an announcement on January 19, CoD’s studios explained the reason for the delay as well as its new release date. The Call of Duty landscape is as volatile as ever. Hackers are back in action, console players are in uproar, and a number of Warzone quality testers are still on strike – with little response from the higher-ups. Now, those higher-ups are in flux as well, with news that Microsoft is purchasing Activision Blizzard. As such, it might not be too surprising to learn that the release date for Vanguard and Warzone Season 2 is being delayed. In a January 19 announcement, CoD’s devs broke down the reason for the postponement and new timeline. Vanguard and Warzone Season 2 officially delayed to ‘optimize experience’ https://twitter.com/CallofDuty/status/1483861828874776577 In their community update, the CoD messaging explained that “more needs to be done” in order to “prioritize ongoing work to balance and optimize your current gameplay experience.” As far as specifics, they explained in a blog post that they’re mostly looking at ‘optimizing gameplay, balancing the game (including weapon and equipment), and fixing the games’ stability and bugs.’ Vanguard and Warzone Season 2’s new release date With the aforementioned list of tweaks still needing time to work on, the devs are officially pushing the Season 2 launch back. Instead of releasing on February 2, Vanguard and Warzone Season 2 will now launch on February 14. Only time will tell if the additional two weeks are enough to fix the game’s issues, or if there will be any patches in the meantime. For now, players can simply look forward to highly anticipated CoD patch notes during their Valentine’s Day festivities.

Call of Duty Vanguard streamers want a simple fix for 2XP token ‘scams’ – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard streamers want a simple fix for 2XP token ‘scams’ ActivisionCall of Duty: Vanguard was released to an audience of willing grinders. But popular streamers like 100 Thieves’ CouRage and FaZe Kalei join the wider community with one complaint in particular: frustrating 2XP tokens. By all means, Vanguard is a unique Call of Duty title. The franchise’s 2021 installation brings a breakable environment, new maps, and a Gunsmith filled to the brim with 10 attachments per weapon. Those 10 attachments make for some interesting loadouts, but also mean there is a lot of unlocking to do. With all those levels to work on, players and streamers noticed a longstanding, now emphasized, problem with the 2XP token system. The grind is longer and the 2XP tokens are turning into a critical commodity. Unfortunately, people are annoyed that their timers still tick down while you’re waiting in the lobby — instead of only being active during matches. Vanguard streamers want changes to 2XP tokens DEAR CALL OF DUTY, MY DOUBLE XP TOKENS SHOULDN’T KEEP COUNTING DOWN WHEN I’M IN THE LOBBY/SEARCHING FOR ANOTHER MATCH. PLEASE FIX THIS. Thank you. — Jack “CouRage” Dunlop (@CouRageJD) November 8, 2021 In a passionate, caps-locked tweet about the issue, CouRage painted the picture clearly. The 100 Thieves co-owner’s heartfelt letter to Activision asked them to “please fix” the fact that “double XP tokens shouldn’t keep counting down when I’m in the lobby.” Essentially, the streamer was frustrated that, after activating timed tokens, some of that time was being wasted in the lobby — where you can’t gain any XP to double. The replies were full of players and streamers who were also annoyed by the issue. While some complained of just how much leveling was needed, others — like FaZe Kalei — took a different route. FaZe Kalei calls 2XP tokens a ‘scam’ Kalei is no stranger to the 2XP troubles. After using up all of hers, the streamer even went off, confusing random 7-Eleven employees with Doritos bag 2XP requests. Now, she’s joined CouRage and complained that the CoD community is “getting scammed.” Sledgehammer Games have already tackled issues with camo and other progressions in Vanguard with two patches, one on November 10 and one on November 11. But the big names are bringing another community request to light. People want level progression, for guns in particular, to go faster. And, if that’s not possible, they’d like their 2XP tokens to only count down when they’re in the process of gaining XP.

Call of Duty Vanguard riot shield glitch is actually perfect counter to shotgun abusers – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard riot shield glitch is actually perfect counter to shotgun abusers ActivisionCall of Duty: Vanguard is finally here and while players have been grinding they discovered a riot shield glitch that is the perfect counter to shotgun abusers. Vanguard was released on November 5 bringing 20 different multiplayer maps and tons of weapons. Despite all the weaponry, players have quickly realized that the Combat Shotgun is one of the most broken guns in the game. People are constantly running around with it dropping V2 Rockets in literal seconds but a bug with the riot shield may finally shut down these rampant shotguns. Vanguard riot shield bug counters shotgun users In Vanguard, players have reported that hitboxes are broken and hit-register isn’t working like it’s supposed to. Now players have found a game-breaking glitch that makes the riot shield the perfect shotgun counter. This Reddit post by ‘blaiirzze’ shows how the shield blocks shotgun bullets from nearly every direction. In the clip, you see the player testing this out in a custom lobby. They are a couple of meters away from the enemy and firing shotgun pellets right in their face but not getting any hits. Despite the riot shield being on their back, it is blocking the shots from coming in. It appears that if any of the bullets hit the shield then it will negate all the damage. While this can be extremely frustrating if you are the one shooting, it can actually be really useful when playing on small maps like Das Haus. On that map, there are typically tons of players flying around with shotguns and this can be the perfect counter as kills can be denied. Sledgehammer Games has yet to identify this as a problem and if this isn’t intended gameplay, then we can expect the devs to patch it out soon.

Call of Duty Vanguard pros “fighting a war” to save Auto Tac Sprint – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard pros “fighting a war” to save Auto Tac Sprint Twitter, @Censor / ActivisionOne Call of Duty: Vanguard setting has the entire competitive community in disarray. While casuals and Warzone pros use Auto Tac Sprint, CDL and Challenger pros are arguing about its ban. Auto Tac Sprint (or, as it’s more typically known, ATS) was introduced with Modern Warfare 2019 and immediately became a point of debate in the Call of Duty League. In the inaugural season, the setting was banned by players, but, two years later, it’s up for discussion again. Essentially, the MW engine – which Vanguard is also built on – allows for slide-canceling movement mechanics that are much easier with ATS enabled. Using ATS makes maintaining maximum speed a lot easier on the hands and controller, but some pros think it’s too easy. While ATS isn’t part of the CDL’s initial ruleset, it’s become a divisive topic among pros’ Gentlemen’s Agreements (GAs). Apparently, Doug ‘Censor’ Martin is now “fighting a war” to keep it from being banned. Call of Duty Vanguard pros wage war to protect Auto Tac Sprint Doug Censor Martin is literally fighting a war in the Challenger GA chat to keep using Auto Tactical Sprint — chance (@Maux) November 23, 2021 On default PS4 settings without ATS, a player would need to double-tap the left stick to initiate Tac Sprint, then double-tap slide and press jump to slide cancel, then double-tap left stick again to continue tac sprinting. In doing so, you’re able to constantly sprint at full speed since the slide cancel resets it. With ATS enabled, all you have to do is hold forward on the left stick, slide cancel, and continue holding forward. It saves a bunch of extra clicks, making moving and finessing at top speeds a lot easier. Somewhat understandably then, some like the setting. Like the Warzone scene, Censor wants CDL Challengers to allow ATS. Unfortunately, he’s “fighting a war” against many pros who despise Tac Sprint generally. Call of Duty League champs flame Tac Sprint with sarcasm so glad tac sprint is back! missed the finesse and being able to stay alive in any situation — alec (@Arcitys) November 24, 2021 The Atlanta FaZe are, until proven otherwise, the best team in Call of Duty. So it holds weight when their AR, Alec ‘Arcitys’ Sanderson, takes to Twitter to roast ATS. The 2021 champ said he was “so glad tac sprint is back.” In the replies, his speedy SMG teammates, Tyler ‘aBeZy’ Pharris and Chris ‘Simp’ Lehr both similarly mocked the setting. Simp dropped a big smiley face, while aBeZy added a “so fun.” It should go without saying that if pros don’t like Tac Sprint, they’re unlikely to enjoy a setting that makes it even easier to pull off. With just under two weeks until the first Challengers event, the time is ticking for Censor to convince his opposition that ATS shouldn’t be banned.

Call of Duty Vanguard pros can’t understand CDL’s 2022 ban list – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard pros can’t understand CDL’s 2022 ban list ActivisionThe upcoming 2022 CDL season will be played on Call of Duty: Vanguard and pros are less than happy about the ruleset. Looking at the weapon, attachment, and map bans, players seem absolutely puzzled. Vanguard released on November 5 and, within days, it was obvious that certain elements of the game weren’t ideal for competitive play. Some issues, like the messy spawn system, require studio intervention, while others, like the STG 44’s damage mags, can simply be banned in competitive play. Professional Call of Duty has a long history of the latter case, agreeing to remove certain items from pro play, and this season will be no exception. Unfortunately, the Call of Duty League’s initial ruleset left much to be desired — in pros’ eyes. There was immediate backlash, as the esport’s officials failed to ban any damage mags and made some controversial map decisions. Now, players are getting ready to institute their own bans. Vanguard pros call for GAs after CDL 2022 ruleset While the CDL bans certain items, players have long decided on their own bans. It seems that 2022 will be no exception, as the Paris Legion’s head coach Dylan ‘Theory’ McGee immediately brought up the topic of Gentlemen’s Agreements (GAs). Theory instantly complained about Vital and damage mags being allowed, expressing utter shock at the decision. Both have already been GA’d by pros in offseason tournaments, noting how broken they make the MP40 and aforementioned STG. As for pros, players like the 2021 champion Atlanta FaZe’s Alec ‘Arcitys’ Sanderson and Tyler ‘aBeZy’ Pharris were quick to react as well. Both simply laughed at the decision to allow Desert Siege in the map pool. How have they left Vital and Damage Mags in the competitive settings?? Also Streaks being retained on SND?? People wonder why players have had to create GAs for 10 years — Dylan (@DMTheory) November 19, 2021 Vanguard pros butt heads over ban decisions While the New York Subliners’ James ‘Clayster’ Eubanks tried to get his peers to “calm” down, others have been reluctant to. Challengers competitor Christopher ‘Parasite’ Duarte responded colorfully: “Need to calm down? Maybe hold the people in charge of this s**t show accountable … Makes this scene look like a complete joke.” Similarly, the Los Angeles Thieves’ Austin ‘SlasheR’ Liddicoat wasn’t keen on relaxing, either. The veteran described the rules as “a f**king joke.” Some… spirited discussion already happening in the pro scene. @Clayster says to keep calm, while @Parasite isn’t so convinced 👀 pic.twitter.com/R6aQONoXz9 — Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) November 19, 2021 There has been no response by the league to this backlash, but Clayster is correct that the actual rules will likely change. The first Challengers competition is in two weeks, by which point pros are expected to come to their own GAs, separate from the league’s ruleset.

Call of Duty: Vanguard pros call for damage mag nerfs after banning STG loadout – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Vanguard pros call for damage mag nerfs after banning STG loadout ActivisionAnother Call of Duty: Vanguard class has been banned from competitive play, as pros slam a “two-bullet” STG 44 loadout. Now, players want the setup’s problematic damage mags nerfed too. Call of Duty: Vanguard hasn’t been out for more than a week and players are already finding overpowered guns. Just like the “two-shot” 1911 pistol loadout, an STG 44 class is also getting banned from tournaments. This STG loadout relies on two principal new attachments that make it overpowered: the Vital Proficiency and .30 Russian Short Magazine Ammunition. The latter, which was also used on the 1911, is a type of mag that buffs damage — and players think it’s gone too far. The efforts to get rid of this STG loadout came to a head on November 6, when Atlanta FaZe pro Alec ‘Arcitys’ Sanderson won a tournament and posted the class setup to Twitter. In his caption, he asked for it to get banned. Vanguard pros ban “two-bullet” STG 44 loadout $2,500 PRIME | 4V4 SEARCH & DESTROY #Champs w/ @Cellium @aBeZy @SimpXO BAN THE CLASS have fun with the two bullet gun pic.twitter.com/NHfFs1JycK— alec (@Arcitys) November 6, 2021 While Arcitys caps-locked a “ban this class” request, other pros replied chiming in. The LA Guerrillas’ Austin ‘SlasheR’ Liddicoat asked “why are we using damage rounds?” And the Minnesota ROKKR’s Preston ‘Priestahh’ Grenier claimed he was “getting sniped.” Responding to Priestahh, Arcitys laughed about how the gun kills in just two bullets from far away and three bullets up close. Of course, the Vital Proficiency plays a key role in this — as it applies a headshot multiplier to other areas of the body. It has already been the subject of nerf requests, but the damage mags are also getting attention now. Vanguard players request nerfs to “broken” damage mags @SHGames Guys, you should take a look at the Vital proficiency + mags that change the weapon’s base damage. Currently it is making the STG and Type-100 kill with only 2 shots if one of them hits the chest. That makes the Vital proficiency not only OP, but basically broken pic.twitter.com/LG7ruXahxG — Hayashii (@HayashiXPG) November 9, 2021 In a video shared to Twitter, content creator Hayashii pointed out just how deadly the Vital and damage mag combination is. With both the STG and Type 100, they proved Arcitys correct — showing how the guns kill in just two bullets using the attachments. So far, the developers at Sledgehammer Games have yet to respond. There were no weapon balancing changes in the November 10 update, but players are hoping for nerfs in a future patch. Until then, it seems that the community will simply need to manually get rid of attachments they deem overpowered. (Unfortunately, there’s no guarantee of Gentlemen’s Agreements in pickup games.)

Call of Duty Vanguard Prestiges are literally crashing the game – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard Prestiges are literally crashing the game Sledgehammer GamesThe Prestige system is an integral part of the Call of Duty multiplayer structure but problems with Vanguard’s pre-season XP tracking have created a big issue in the fan-favorite mechanic. There have been a number of bugs and problems affecting Vanguard’s multiplayer mode since launch, like this ridiculous ‘elevator’ glitch that lets players scope out the entire map, but a new issue is ruining the feeling of prestiging. This is only happening in the post-game menu after players reach the end of Prestige 2, and begin their journey into the 3rd prestige and Levels 100+. Call of Duty Vanguard’s 3rd Prestige bug The problem occurs after reaching Level 101. Instead of ticking up and continuing to progress, the experience tracker never changes to the next level – leaving players stuck there no matter how much XP they earn while the bug is active. As a side-effect, this causes the XP distribution screen to endlessly loop the Prestige Level Up animation regardless of whether or not a level up should have occurred. Vanguard’s Prestige system is designed to cap out at the third tier during this pre-season before expanding to seven in December’s Season One update, but the level cap is intended to be 1000, not 101. Reddit user jonnyboy816 chimed in to confirm that he is also experiencing problems at this benchmark: “Same thing happening with me for about a day and a half now my level just loops just like yours at Lvl 101 prestige 3.” Another commenter added: “Thought this was a bug and restarted my game a few times yesterday because of this.” The problem looks to be more of a visual issue, as another user reports that the game is tracking player levels accurately despite the broken visuals: “Some guy is at prestige 19 (level 900) but it only shows prestige 3 in the lobby and barracks.” Sledgehammer has yet to acknowledge this bug at the time of writing.

Call of Duty Vanguard players want to copy Halo Infinite audio setting – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard players want to copy Halo Infinite audio setting 343 Industries/ActivisionHalo Infinite launched on November 15, six years after Halo 5, and players have quickly flocked to it to rediscover their love for the franchise. Now, some CoD players want certain features and settings copied over into Vanguard. Audio has been an ongoing complaint from Call of Duty players. This is especially true in Warzone, where directional audio and limited settings have been a frequent drawback for players. This problem has carried over into Vanguard, with players frustrated by some of the audio in the game, especially in regards to background noise. As it turns out, Halo Infinite has the perfect setting that could counteract this — and CoD players want it in Vanguard. WIth top Call of Duty pros and personalities already looking on wistfully at the success of Halo Infinite, players are also jealous of the more core aspects of the game, and one audio setting has got players talking. Posting to the CoDCompetitive subreddit, though certainly something the wider player base would be interested in, Oraclles asked: “Can we PLEASE get this Halo audio setting in Vanguard?” The setting in question was for “environmental effects” or, more simply, that extra background noise that is made on the map, such as raindrops or things falling that are irrelevant to gameplay. In Call of Duty, background noise is a near-permanent fixture on pretty much every map. Be it loud wind sounds, paint cans falling or anything else, the environmental sound effects can help add to the immersion of the battlefield — or, in some players’ minds, become more of a distraction. Whether Vanguard devs Sledgehammer Games take this feedback on board and decide to make some changes remains to be seen, but we can’t imagine many players would complain about it.

Call of Duty Vanguard players want classic map feature back – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard players want classic map feature back ActivisionCoD: Vanguard players are requesting for the devs to bring back the old map voting feature after it was first removed from the franchise in 2019. Call of Duty: Vanguard’s release on November 5 came with 16 6v6 multiplayer maps — more than we’ve ever seen in previous CoD titles at launch. By now players have already decided what their favorite maps are, but they don’t always get the opportunity to play them due to a feature that was removed in 2019’s Modern Warfare, and once again in Vanguard. In older Call of Duty games, players could vote for the next map in the lobby before it was removed, given the choice between two or to get a ‘random’ one, and now fans are demanding for it to be added back. On November 24, Vanguard player willfan8 started a thread in the r/CODVanguard subreddit. The post titled “We need map voting please!” was a plea to the devs to add map voting back to the game – which got a lot of support from the community with over 500 upvotes so far. “I never understood why this was removed in MW,” they went on. “Cold War added it back, and now it’s just gone again? I get it, it might be harder because of being able to have multiple pacing and game modes selected but come on. They keep trying to ‘innovate’ by removing standard machines.” While many agreed with the post and wished map voting would make its return, some were quick to point out flaws with the system. A lot of maps in Vanguard have entirely different pacing to another and have to accommodate different amounts of players — a flaw that was pointed out by bilowik. “The issue with map voting is that different maps have different player counts even in the same pacing.” One player wasn’t at all hopeful that map voting will return due to Vanguard running on MW’s engine: “Won’t happen, never added it to MW so they won’t for this game either. They will blame it on being ‘the same engine’ as MW.” For now, players will have to continue playing on maps they’re not fond of, and it’ll likely stay that way. Sledgehammer will need to find a way to not affect the pacing system that was added in Vanguard.

Call of Duty Vanguard players roast “completely useless” blind-fire mechanic – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard players roast “completely useless” blind-fire mechanic ActivisionCall of Duty: Vanguard introduced a new mechanic, blind fire, that was supposed to serve as a way to kill enemies, but players are calling it completely pointless. With every new CoD that is released, there are new features that are brought into the game. Vanguard saw the likes of destructible environments, 10 weapon attachments, and more. One mechanic that was new is blind fire, which allows people to shoot their weapons without revealing themselves in the open. However, many are roasting the mechanic, claiming there is never an ideal situation to use it. CoD Vanguard players call blind fire pointless When Vanguard was revealed, we got a sneak peek at a brand-new blind-fire option that will be in the game. Fast forward a month after its release and some players don’t even know how to use it. This Reddit post by ‘Bando28’ has the entire community agreeing that blind fire might be one of the most useless ideas in Call of Duty history. They have played the game for over 80 hours and haven’t found one instance that they were blind firing. On top of that, it hasn’t been used in any of the Vanguard kickoff tournaments despite being allowed. Not only are players finding that blind firing is useless, but some also aren’t even sure how to do it. One player said, “I’ve played for about 30 hours and I have literally no idea how to even blind fire.” Another person added, “Blind-firing is completely useless. It’s just mounting with bad accuracy and half your body sticks out.” When this was introduced to the community there was some worry about it being overpowered as people could shoot without being shot at. But Vanguard players were quick to find out that more than half your body is sticking out and it’s really challenging to get a kill. It is unknown if Sledgehammer Games will alter this system but players are calling it “the most useless mechanic ever added.”

Call of Duty Vanguard players fuming as hackers dominate free weekend – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard players fuming as hackers dominate free weekend ActivisionCall of Duty: Vanguard had its first free-to-play weekend and players are fuming as hackers dominated the game. Ever since Call of Duty moved toward more popular PC releases the game has seen an increase in hackers across Warzone, Vanguard, and other titles. Sledgehammer Games gave everyone, including cheaters, access to the new Call of Duty by hosting a free-to-play period. While it gave new players a chance to test out the game and determine if they wanted to buy it, this also gave hackers a chance to take over the community and ruin matches. Vanguard free to play weekend overrun by hackers While players patiently wait for Season 1 of Vanguard and the RICOCHET anti-cheat to be implemented into the game, they are stuck dealing with hackers. This Reddit post by ‘bidful’ has players raging as most of them were running into cheaters during the free access period. Players claimed that they experienced at least one cheater in the free period and sometimes more throughout the same lobby. “I literally had 2 hackers in the same lobby of Hardcore Free-For-All,” a user said. Prior to Vanguard’s release, Sledgehammer Games informed the community that RICOCHET, a new anti-cheat would be coming to the game but not on release. This has players praying that this new system will end cheating once and for all. One Redditor added, “Here’s to hoping RICOCHET actually does something once that comes out and upcoming free weekends won’t look the same again.” While the RICOCHET anti-cheat isn’t scheduled to be released until Season 1, the devs could have used data from this period to see if hacking is a huge problem in Vanguard. This could allow them to perfect the anti-cheat and exterminate hackers from CoD.

Call of Duty: Vanguard players frustrated over “unplayable” PS4 version – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Vanguard players frustrated over “unplayable” PS4 version ActivisionThe Call of Duty: Vanguard beta has seen its first weekend of play, giving players the chance to get their initial taste of the new game before it launches on November 5 — and some players struggled massively. The first weekend of the Vanguard beta was for PlayStation users only, and in particular, those who had preordered the game. While many players were excited to hop into Vanguard and explore the new maps, modes, and weapons, it quickly became clear that there was one major problem for a certain group of players. If you have failed thus far to get your hands on the elusive PlayStation 5, you might have found the Vanguard beta to be a real struggle on the PS4 — and you’re not the only one. Citing major performance issues, those who experienced the beta on PS4 have described the game as ‘unplayable’ due to a number of factors. Visibility has been noted as a common issue in recent Call of Duty titles, and Vanguard doesn’t look set to be massively different, especially for PlayStation 4 players (there’s no footage yet of Xbox One gameplay to know whether it affects all previous-gen consoles). For example, Reddit user Wedclark struggled big time to locate and track an enemy, who seemingly disappeared behind gunfire and blended into their surroundings. Not only that, but servers have appeared to be a real issue throughout week one of the beta. While this seems to be an issue impacting both generations of PlayStation players, it’s particularly prevalent on PS4. Twitter user Zach said that while Vanguard looks set to be a good CoD, that definitely won’t be the case on PS4, because “that s**t is unplayable.” Vanguard will be a good COD, but defiantly not on PS4 LMFAO that shit is unplayable. no more beta until I can play it on PC — Acentic (@Acentiic) September 13, 2021 Players such as FlexTango Gaming have also pointed out major frame rate issues, while others have complained about textures struggling to load in over longer distances. The frame rate and lag in vanguard has gotten so bad it feels like you’re playing world at war tdm on the wii. Sincerely people playing on PS4 AND PS5 @SHGames— FlexTango Gaming 🌐 (@Adam_Shnitzel) September 13, 2021 Add all of these together, alongside some bizarre weather effects that make enemy players look incredibly distorted, and the Vanguard developers have a lot to look at ahead of the game’s full launch on November 5.

Call of Duty Vanguard players frustrated by FOV visibility bug – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard players frustrated by FOV visibility bug ActivisionCall of Duty: Vanguard has finally been released and players are asking the devs to make fix a fruiting FOV bug that is making it hard to see. Vanguard was released on November 5 bringing 20 multiplayer maps, over 30 weapons, and tons of fresh content. Players can grind for camos, calling cards, prestiges, and create the best loadout possible with hundreds of different attachments. While players have been enjoying the game, they are asking the devs to fix an issue where certain FOVs are causing visibility issues. Vanguard players want FOV glitch fixed Objective-based game modes are very popular in the Call of Duty franchise. Domination, one of the most played, is causing some issues with players. This Reddit post by ‘SelfRekt’ shows that when capturing the flag on Domination the bar is in the middle of the screen preventing you from seeing while ADSing. As seen in the screenshot, the bar covers the reticle on the sight making it quite difficult to see. While this isn’t happening to everyone, it is occurring when running a specific FOV. Players were quick to report that this is not intended. One Redditor said, “It’s a bug that happens with PC players at a certain FOV. It isn’t usually like that.” Others noted that while playing on the max FOV this doesn’t happen, but since everyone prefers to use a different setting they are hoping that Sledgehammer Games just moves the capture progress bar to a different area. This would make it will be out of a player’s sight while they are trying to aim at enemies. For now, if this is an issue we recommend playing on the max setting as it will not be a problem you run into.

Call of Duty Vanguard players frustrated at “ridiculous” slow weapon XP leveling – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard players frustrated at “ridiculous” slow weapon XP leveling ActivisionCall of Duty: Vanguard players have blasted the “ridiculous” weapon XP rate in the game, complaining about how slow it is to level up guns. In the opening weeks of each new Call of Duty game, most players are committed to leveling up as quickly as possible, unlocking the best new camos and getting their guns leveled up to the max. This rings especially true now players want to level up Vanguard weapons for Warzone — but it’s proving to be a more difficult task than some imagined. Most guns in the game go up to level 70, so it can feel like a grind, but players want developers Sledgehammer Games to make changes so it’s not quite as difficult. Black Ops Cold War launched with a similar issue, and Treyarch eventually said that the weapon XP had launched slower than intended, and some Vanguard players are hoping for the same again. “Vanguard’s weapon grind is the absolute worst I’ve ever seen,” DocDeezy said. “It’s actually ridiculous… It’s to the point where I’m just playing Valorant until COD fixes their broken weapon XP, again for the second year in a row.” DocDeezy also said that we have to put in “a full 8-hour shift to level up one single gun,” which could obviously be a struggle for anyone not able to commit that much time to the game. It’s not only DocDeezy who felt this way, though, with many comments fully in support of the sentiment. Some said that the “MP and Zombies grind is absolutely horrible right now,” with other players arguing that it’s “not worth the time.” Whether Sledgehammer does make any changes to weapon level XP remains to be seen, but until then, it’s time to clock in and get grinding.

Call of Duty Vanguard players discover wild MW2-inspired noob tube spots – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard players discover wild MW2-inspired noob tube spots Sledgehammer/ActivisionCall of Duty Vanguard players have discovered spots on Castle that take things back to Modern Warfare 2 days, allowing for ridiculous crossmap grenade launcher plays. Modern Warfare 2 first came out in 2009, and, over a decade later, we got the Remastered version in 2020. The game is considered one of the best CoD ever made… except for the noob tubes. “Noob tube” of course refers to grenade launchers in the world of CoD. MW 2, great as it is, was rife with exploitable spots. With a launcher and info on where to aim, you could easily score kills on enemies as they spawned. The nostalgic noob tube highlight video below, all the way back from 2010, shows exactly what we’re talking about. After receiving plenty of criticism for it’s multiplayer spawns already, ridiculous crossmap grenade launcher kills have now made a comeback in Vanguard as well. Clips from Castle show players scoring multi-kills by simply aiming at the right place with the MK11 launcher. Castle was originally from Call of Duty: World at War, so it’s already a blast from the past. Add in the MK11 launcher, which is capable of wiping teams from across the map, and you get ridiculous clips like this. Just one grenade is easily enough to activate a killstreak with the right aim. If you can get off more than one shot, you can really pile up the elims. Of course, this is made easier because of the Blitz game mode, which packs teams of 24 into the map. It’s definitely not awesome for the players getting wiped, though. But, like we saw in the first video, things like this have been happening for over a decade in CoD. If anything, you should just work to get away from spawn ASAP, especially on Castle. It might not be a bad idea to keep this in mind for other maps as well, as more noob tube spots may get discovered as time goes on.

Call of Duty Vanguard players demand scoreboard changes: “how have we gone backwards?” – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard players demand scoreboard changes: “how have we gone backwards?” ActivisionCall of Duty: Vanguard players are fuming over the scoreboard and demanding changes as they feel it has gone backward with each new title. When playing Call of Duty people are constantly trying to rack up as many kills as possible and flex over the entire lobby. Players have always had the option to open the scoreboard in the middle of a CoD game to check how everyone is doing. From kills and deaths to plants and defuses, it typically is very detailed. However, due to the scoreboard layout in Vanguard, players can only see eliminations and are demanding an overhaul. Vanguard players want massive change to scoreboard Nothing feels better than hopping into a Call of Duty game, dropping an insane K/D ratio, and showing off to everyone in the lobby. Unfortunately, it appears that those days are over as the scoreboard but the community is rallying and demanding that it be changed to show more details while in a game. This Reddit post has everyone wondering, “How have we gone backwards?” Meaning that with every new CoD the scoreboard gives less and less information about how individual players are doing. In Vanguard, players can only see how many eliminations someone has, whereas in previous titles we could see stats like: deaths, damage dealt, and defuses One person is tired of the lack of detail and the, “Everyone is a winner standpoint.” They claim that the developers have gone “soft” and don’t want to discourage people if they have a bad game. Call of Duty has swapped over to eliminations instead of kills in their past couple of titles which means that kills plus assists count toward your E/D ratio, making everyone seem a bit better than they actually are. There is no way to know if a more detailed scoreboard will come to Vanguard but players are hoping to see some additions come in the near future.

Call of Duty Vanguard players demand Numa Numa changes: “I can’t see s**t” – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard players demand Numa Numa changes: “I can’t see s**t” ActivisionWith 16 6v6 multiplayer maps at launch, CoD: Vanguard has something for everyone. That said, Numa Numa has drawn its fair share of critics — and visibility on the map has become a major issue for some. The Vanguard maps have definitely split players, with so many different options that cater to different playstyles. Some players love the hectic moments of Dome and thrive in the crossfire, while others prefer a more deliberate and tactical approach on maps such as Desert Siege. Numa Numa, however, is largely looked at unfavorably by CoD players, and visibility is key. Numa Numa is a hectic map set on the island of Bougainville, with minimal coverage and a trench-style setting that means you can kill or be killed from absolutely anywhere. Now, though, the map has become a “serious issue” according to IchikoTatsumura, addressing the issue in a Reddit post. With hundreds of comments in agreement, Ichiko says: “I’ve noticed Numa literally camouflage other people within its color palette. Like I don’t have this issue whatsoever with any other map except Numa Numa.” The visceral, true-to-life color scheme of Numa Numa — and Vanguard as a whole — definitely helps ensure players know they’re in the midst of a real battlefield. That said, with maps like Numa Numa, it seems as though players are finding it a little too accurate to real-life camouflage techniques. One commenter said they “can’t get a feel for the map” either, because they “can’t see s**t.” Another added that “most of this game is just red nametag shooter simulator” because of the poor visibility. Sledgehammer Games may well make changes to improve visibility on Numa Numa, but they haven’t commented on the issue yet.

Call of Duty Vanguard players demand major changes for Shipment – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard players demand major changes for Shipment ActivisionOne of Call of Duty’s most iconic maps, Shipment, has finally been added to Vanguard. However, players are demanding major changes to the extremely fast-paced map. Shipment first debuted back in Call of Duty 4 and has seen appearances across many different titles like Modern Warfare and CoD Mobile. It’s one of the most beloved maps of all time and Sledgehammer Games have brought the nostalgic fun to Vanguard. The map is a tiny square where players can get into constant gunfights and rack up well over 100 kills in a single match. With how often players find themselves in engagements, these games can end with the snap of your fingers and people really want to see some changes that will make matches last longer. Vanguard players want changes to Shipment Shipment has finally arrived to Vanguard and while the game can already be extremely fast, the new Combat Pacing feature cranked it up even more. If you blink you could miss an entire game and players are now demanding that the devs increase the length of matches on the map. This Reddit post by ‘krazzybam’ has everyone rallying to get the score limit changed for specific game modes. One person said, “The playlist is terrible. Games only last about 2 minutes tops on anything other than Domination.” They want to see modes like Team Deathmatch and Kill Confirmed have their score increased and suggested putting them to over 200 kills. While the short matches are extremely frustrating for players, another Reddit thread showcases another issue with the map as people claim the final killcam and MVP voting take longer than the actual game. A user said, “Playing Shipment 24/7 is 25% gameplay and 75% watching MVP and waiting for the next match.” Players are tired of spending more time in the loading screen as this is a flat-out waste of time and can even hurt Double XP tokens. While it is unlikely that the devs will get rid of the final killcam and MVP voting, the community has suggested backing out of each lobby until you get Dominiation as this will save downtime in between matches.

Call of Duty: Vanguard players baffled by bizarre new camo challenges – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Vanguard players baffled by bizarre new camo challenges ActivisionWith early access to Call of Duty: Vanguard rolling in, players and streamers have run into some confusion during their grind. Namely, people are wondering if the point-blank sniper and long-range SMG camo challenges are bugged. In a first-person shooter, you can’t see a lot of cosmetics. You don’t see most of your character’s outfit and very few accessories. But what you do see is your gun, so people enjoy acquiring fun camos. Like every CoD, Vanguard has a mastery camo that you need to grind to unlock. Modern Warfare had Obsidian, Black Ops Cold War had Dark Matter (and Zombies’ Dark Aether), and Vanguard has Atomic. To unlock Atomic, though, you need to unlock every gun’s Gold camo first. And, as streamers like JGOD and FaZe Booya are noticing, there are some… surprising challenges along the way. Call of Duty: Vanguard camo challenges include point-blank sniper kills If you thought I was Joking its the same for the Marksman too https://t.co/k1sdguazwd pic.twitter.com/eU5veLmngp — James – JGOD (@JGODYT) November 4, 2021 In a tweet about the situation, JGOD called the camo challenges “something else” with a bunch of laughing emojis. And, if you’re wondering what’s funny, it’s the fact that you need to get 100 point-blank kills with every sniper and marksman rifle to unlock certain camos needed for Gold. In the replies, people noted that assault rifles also require 100 point-blank kills. CoD fans assume Vanguard’s camo challenges are bugged 100 point blank kills with a bolt action sniper? AYE who’s incharge of making these camo challenges 😂 — Booya (@xBooyaa) November 4, 2021 FaZe Booya also expressed shock at Vanguard’s grind, asking “who’s in charge of making these camo challenges?” Unsurprisingly, the streamers have been joined by players in the confusion. With many wondering if the challenges are bugged, some have even pointed to the long shots required for SMG players. Sledgehammer Games have yet to confirm or deny that these are the official challenges needed, so we’ll continue to monitor the situation. If nothing changes before the game releases on November 5, this grind is going to be a serious one. So if you want the prettiest gun in the lobby, just remember the timeless expression: “Beauty is pain.”

Call of Duty Vanguard player shows insane Goliath trick to baffle enemies – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard player shows insane Goliath trick to baffle enemies ActivisionA CoD Vanguard player discovered a nifty little trick that gives you a huge height advantage over opponents, letting you rain fire and gather intel from across the map. With Vanguard launching at the start of November, CoD players have slowly been figuring out all the key tricks to have every advantage over their opponents. Whether that’s using the insane Combat Shotgun loadout for V2 Rockets or using the ‘elevator glitch’ to ascend into the skies, players will do anything to get the upper hand. One player, though, has found a way of flying into the sky to gather enemy info and pick off heads without having to exploit or glitch the game at all. As shown by BigHero6Fan, all you need is a Goliath Field Upgrade and a couple of Demolition Charges and you’ll be flying high in no time — literally. Playing on Bocage with friends, BigHero6Fan put themselves in the perfect position to catch enemy pushes without having to get right into the fray. They threw down a couple of Demolition Charges, and their teammate moved the Goliath into position right on top of them. Then, they stood on the Goliath, detonated the Demolition Charges and soared into the sky, seeing where their opponents were pushing and even sniping one in the process. Of course, this requires a teammate willing to use their Goliath in such a way as well as a good shot to actually snipe someone in such a fashion. While it’s a fun and innovative way to gather enemy intel, it’s unlikely we see this technique used much since it requires quite a lot of utility and won’t often yield much of a reward. That said, it’s pretty cool and, as proven here, can be incredibly helpful too.

Call of Duty Vanguard Nov 18 update patch notes: Bloom fixed, shotguns nerfed, more – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard Nov 18 update patch notes: Bloom fixed, shotguns nerfed, more ActivisionThe Call of Duty: Vanguard November 18 update is bringing a long-awaited fix for weapon bloom as well as nerfing shotguns among other changes. Sledgehammer Games have been on the ball just a couple of weeks into Vanguard’s release with quite a few patches fixing notable issues. While only a few things were changed in the latest update, the patch touches on big problems that the community has been raising concerns on. In this patch, Sledgehammer Games is finally fixing the annoying weapon bloom as well as curtailing overpowered shotguns. Vanguard bloom fixed on weapons When it became apparent that bloom was in Vanguard the entire CoD community went into an uproar. However, SHG announced that they have reduced bloom for base weapons, giving them tighter recoil patterns. They also noted that players can equip attachments that improve accuracy to reduce bloom. Attachments that lower the accuracy of a weapon will increase this effect. Xclusive Ace has already gone ahead and tested this change out which appears to have worked really well. Weapons now have a much tighter spread and should be easier to control their recoil. Here’s a tease of the ADS spread adjustment. Full video covering all of the primaries will be coming later today so be on the lookout for that! pic.twitter.com/tN3RuAq5Da — Xclusive Ace (@TheXclusiveAce) November 18, 2021 While this was one issue that was fixed SHG also went ahead and nerfed the overpowered class of shotguns in Vanguard. All Vanguard shotguns nerfed Shotguns have been running over the competition in Vanguard as these weapons have been responsible for mutiple sub-minute V2 Rockets. In the update patch notes, the devs said they are nerfing all of the shotguns by lowering the effective range, pellet spread and hipfire penalty on them. While this was all the information provided, SHG also noted there would be more changes to come with shotguns so keep a close eye out for those and we will update you when that is revealed. In the meantime, check out the full patch notes which also include some Zombies fixes as well. Call of Duty Vanguard Nov 18 patch notes

Call of Duty Vanguard Nov 17 update patch notes: Shipment, weapon & Zombies changes – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard Nov 17 update patch notes: Shipment, weapon & Zombies changes Sledgehammer GamesThe Call of Duty: Vanguard November 17 update is finally bringing Shipment to the live playlists as well as implementing an array of changes to issues with Zombies mode and weapon camos. Sledgehammer Games (SHG) have already released a number of patches in the brief time Vanguard has been out. The devs have been quick to address some of the issues that CoD players find. The patch notes for these updates aren’t exactly extensive, but they generally aim to address some of the burgeoning problems that pop up in Vanguard. This time around, Sledgehammer is introducing a fan-favorite map to the fold and a fix to a problem that prevented PlayStation 5 players from accessing Vanguard at all. Vanguard Shipment Shipment has launched in CoD Vanguard on November 17 in public matches ahead of the free access weekend planned for the game. Sledgehammer are reintroducing the popular map that’s been shelved since Modern Warfare 2019. The chaotic map provides nonstop action in a really tight space and is the go-to locale for many 1v1 challenges. The free Vanguard weekend is going to invite a ton of players to try out the game, making it the perfect time to bring back one of CoD’s classic maps. Vanguard PlayStation 5 storage bug The patch also addressed an issue for PlayStation 5 players who couldn’t access Call of Duty: Vanguard without enough storage space in their console. If the player had less than 40 gigabytes free on their PS5, then Vanguard wouldn’t start up at all. People started raising the issue with SHG, who are now implementing a fix that will hopefully solve the problem. Read more: Best MP40 Vanguard class loadout – SHG are still monitoring Vanguard and community feedback for its next batch of fixes in the face of “pay-to-win” Blueprints among others. Call of Duty Vanguard map exploit makes players impossible to kill – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard map exploit makes players impossible to kill ActivisionVanguard currently has a game-changing map glitch in Sub Pens that is disrupting games. It allows players to essentially hide inside and exploit the map, yet still, be able to shoot and kill players on the map. It’s not uncommon for players to be able to glitch into maps as it’s happened many times before – notably in Warzone Season 3 with Airport. Vanguard has been pretty clean with regards to these kinds of glitches and exploits so far, but the Sub Pens map appears to have fallen victim to a map exploit allowing players inside of it. Not only that, but it’s also allowing players that are exploiting this glitch to kill unsuspecting players, making for easy kills and providing an unfair advantage. Sub Pens is a sprawling map with unique lines of sight. You can technically see from one end of the map to the other, and it offers a huge amount of verticality and pathways to explore. Amidst all the space though, it seems like one section of the map is currently exploitable. Reddit user dvo94 warned Vanguard players to “Watch out for this one on Sub Pens,” and showed why this map glitch should be feared. The player was running near the back of one of the map’s corners and noticed an isolated red dot highlighted on the radar. A Spy Plane had shown the player the exact location of the enemy soldier, yet they were nowhere to be seen. Suddenly, our player was gunned down, and the Killcam contained a startling revelation. As they roamed the area, a player was camped high above the map and clearly in an area considered to be off-limits. They could see outside of the map, but more importantly, they could see any players beneath them. It’s a concerning clip to say the least as it’s unclear how the player was able to achieve this. Meaning it could take the devs some time to find and patch it, and it will continue to happen. So if you find yourself in one of Vanguard’s game modes, then err on the side of caution when approaching this area. We’ll keep you updated on whether or not Sledgehammer Games have been able to implement a fix.

Call of Duty Vanguard leaked ahead of official reveal: Cover art, special editions, more – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard leaked ahead of official reveal: Cover art, special editions, more ActivisionCall of Duty 2021 is officially Call of Duty Vanguard. The heavily rumored Sledgehammer Games title was leaked ahead of a reveal event, as cover art and special editions confirmed the next release. After months of speculation, the next CoD title is now officially set in stone as Vanguard. The WWII-era title slipped through the cracks on August 12 as cover art was datamined through the Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 5 update. This leaked artwork revealed Vanguard’s official logo along with a Cross-Gen bundle, an Ultimate edition, and a handful of bonus unlocks ranging from character skins to Open Beta access. Although Vanguard is now official as the game’s title, the datamined intel failed to include a release date. Call of Duty Vanguard leaks reveal official cover art The Vanguard cover art features four characters fighting through an explosive battlefield with WWII-era weaponry in hand. Fire and palm trees are scattered in the background while the assumed main characters sit prominently in the foreground. The leaked imagery has since been taken offline. Alternate art for the cross-gen bundle ramps up the heat with even more fire and a noticeably orange touch. Last but not least, the Ultimate Edition artwork (which has also been copyright-striked) features a different setting entirely. Gone are the palm trees as aircrafts take up space overhead and roughly a dozen soldiers fight on the ground. Call of Duty Vanguard leaks reveal Ultimate edition skins Alongside the cover art leaks was an additional file revealing bonus content included in the Ultimate edition. The following is a list of what appears to be included in the premium Vanguard bundle. Lucas – Operator Skin – Polina – Operator Skin – Wade – Operator Skin – Breacher – Assault Rifle – Snowstorm – Marksman Rifle – Thunderhead – Submachine Gun – Night Raid Mastercraft – Frontline Weapons Pack – Exclusive Emblem – Double XP Tokens – Open Beta Early Access – Call of Duty Vanguard leaks reveal Open Beta As the final piece of intel from the early Vanguard leaks, it appears an Open Beta is on the way ahead of the game’s full release. Purchasing a special edition of the 2021 title provides early access to this Open Beta period. There’s currently no telling when this may start, nor how early you’ll get in with a preorder. Previous leaks implied a full Vanguard reveal was set for the middle of August during Warzone Season 5. Despite this info now being public, the official reveal is still likely imminent, following on from last year’s Cold War unveiling inside the popular Battle Royale.

Call of Duty Vanguard killstreaks are going rogue and killing off teammates – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard killstreaks are going rogue and killing off teammates ActivisionCall of Duty: Vanguard pros and casuals alike have found a common enemy in the new game. Killstreaks, particularly the Bombing Run, are apparently going rogue and sabotaging players’ own teams with team kills. Not only are the Vanguard killstreaks hard to control, some of them poise an undeniable risk to your own team. So far, Bombing Run is the biggest culprit — with many calling it the’“worst killstreak in CoD history.’ Streaks are typically supposed to be a reward for quality play, but this game is a different story. It’s gone so far that many even think using streaks is in fact a “disadvantage” in this title, which feels extremely counterintuitive. After a week of Vanguard tournaments and casual pickup games, it seems that people want a fix for the streaks. Vanguard killstreaks are recklessly killing off teammates The Bombing Run is the worst scorestreak of all time pic.twitter.com/CGH0JmRjP5 — Attach (@Attach) November 8, 2021 As seen in the clip from the Minnesota ROKKR’s Dillon ‘Attach’ Price, the Bombing Run takes no prisoners. With just three players alive during a Round 11 Search and Destroy round, his teammate’s own killstreak killed two of them. Immediately, they all yelled for the final remaining player to defuse — worried about the streak returning. Being scared of your own killstreak’s warpath isn’t quite what one would expect from a reward mechanic. And it’s gone so far that other pros are calling these streaks a “disadvantage.” Vanguard’s killstreaks are a disadvantage? the way that the streaks are in this game needs to be changed as they quite literally are a disadvantage which makes no sense — Peirce (@Gunless) November 10, 2021 As the Los Angeles Guerrillas’ Peirce ‘Gunless’ Hillman expressed, Vanguard killstreaks need a fix. He called for change, noting that these streaks “quite literally are a disadvantage, which makes no sense. Other players have chimed in with similar sentiments, as Warzone pro Douglas ‘DougIsRaw’ Wolf called Bombing Run “the most rogue ass streak ever.” And Challengers player Christopher ‘Parasite’ Duarte dubbed it “the worst competitive streak ever.” So far, Sledgehammer Games have not responded to concerns and calls for change. But, until they do, it might be worth being a little careful before bringing in your streaks.

Call of Duty: Vanguard guns arrive early in Warzone Season 6 update – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Vanguard guns arrive early in Warzone Season 6 update ActivisionTwo Call of Duty: Vanguard weapons have arrived early in Warzone and have been added to Gunsmith, but they cannot be unlocked or used. Warzone Season 6 has arrived and it’s brought a variety of fresh content for players to enjoy and get stuck into. Whether it’s the two new lethal weapons, the reworked Gulag, or even the upcoming Haunting of Verdansk event, Raven Software certainly hasn’t held back with the latest update. However, two new unexpected additions were included in the Season 6 patch and it’s caught players completely off-guard. Seemingly out of the blue, two Vanguard weapons have appeared in the Gunsmith menus, but they’re unavailable to unlock or customize. Vanguard’s STG 44 & M1 Garand added to Warzone Although we still don’t have a confirmed release date for Warzone’s integration with Vanguard, Raven Software hasn’t hesitated to add two iconic WWII weapons to the game. Both the M1 Garand and STG 44 have appeared in Gunsmith with a description and the ‘Vanguard’ tag. Despite this, the guns are locked and there are no details on what challenge or level will be required to use them, this will likely come at a later date when they’re fully released into the BR. Either way, the appearance of these new guns has got the whole community excited and it’s a reminder that the Vanguard Warzone update is on the horizon. The STG44 and the M1 Garand from Call of Duty: Vanguard are now appearing in Warzone, but the two weapons are locked with no way to unlock them right now. (Wrong image attached in previous tweet!) pic.twitter.com/iSp7lbQWbr — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) October 7, 2021 It’s hard to know why Raven decided to add these two specific weapons early unless they have plans to release them ahead of the Vanguard patch. While that could be the case, it’s possible they’ve just added the guns to generate some excitement for the future update, which draws closer and closer each day. With the promise of an anti-cheat and countless new weapons to use. it’s easy to see why Warzone players are on the edge of their seats for the upcoming WWII integration.

Call of Duty Vanguard gameplay revealed at Gamescom with deadly shotgun – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard gameplay revealed at Gamescom with deadly shotgun Sledgehammer GamesAfter a flurry of information was shared regarding the release of Call of Duty Vanguard, they premiered the first official look at the campaign mode that players will be able to jump into this coming Fall! With a ton of news surrounding the latest release within the Call of Duty franchise coming from Sledgehammer Games as of late, we’re finally able to get some insight into how the games engine is going to work. During the opening night of Gamescom 2021, they premiered the first official look at the campaign. Throughout the trailer, we got to witness some of the combat, mechanics, and how movement will be a big factor within the Vanguard. Call of Duty Vanguard campaign reveal trailer Gamescom 2021 has provided us several trailers of upcoming AAA titles such as Halo Infinite. But, Call of Duty once again stole the show, as Sledgehammer Games rolled out the red carpet with our first look at the campaign, and we also got a first look at a rather deadly shotgun. Throughout the trailer, we get to see the Battle of Stalingrad, and how devastating it truly was throughout the entire city. The protagonist sneaks through enemy lines, taking down German forces along the way, and ends the trailer by sliding down a post office chute, taking down multiple hostiles. There’s a lot to unpack within this trailer, as the Modern Warfare engine is on display throughout. Mounting is back, and the weapons themself offer a lot of similarities to the Warzone, so that’ll be exciting for players. New shotgun revealed One of the new weapons players noticed right away is the brand new shotgun the main character uses throughout the trailer. We’re unable to identify the exact make of the weapon as of now, but the shells spread throughout the magazine in a circular fashion, and it seems to pack a punch for sure. Call of Duty Vanguard devs remove Secrets of the Pacific after nonstop crashes – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard devs remove Secrets of the Pacific after nonstop crashes Sledgehammer GamesSecrets of the Pacific is a preview window into the upcoming Call of Duty Vanguard and Warzone integration, but Sledgehammer has temporarily disabled the event due to its effect on the game. The waters were rough for Sledgehammer Games’ newest in-game event. Secrets of the Pacific was intended to allow players to complete challenges in order to earn in-game items connected to the upcoming Caldera Warzone map, as well as Vanguard’s Season one. It’s not clear what went wrong inside of the game, but players were reporting a higher number of crashes than usual in the minutes leading up to the announcement. Secrets of the Pacific removed from Call of Duty Vanguard This new Warzone-teaser event was only live for a short time before being pulled from the game entirely. It only took 11 minutes for Sledgehammer to move from investigating the issue to disabling the event as a whole. The devs commented on the swift change, saying: ” We’re disabling the Secrets of the Pacific event while we squash this bug.” We’re disabling the Secrets of the Pacific event in #Vanguard while we squash this bug 🪲🔨 https://t.co/hZXJVT2tgO — Sledgehammer Games (@SHGames) November 24, 2021 In response to Sledgehammer’s tweet, one user brought up the instant damage the event had done to the game. “I have gotten a error/blue screen 9 times now within 30 mins on the ps5… This is ridiculous.” I have gotten a error/blue screen 9 times now within 30 mins on the ps5… This is ridiculous — ITz-Ruthless (@NLMBRUTHLESS) November 24, 2021 Sledgehammer has confirmed that anyone who was in the process of completing the challenges will retain their progress when it comes back online, but there’s no timetable for when that will be. The only part of the event that survived the shut-off is the 2XP multiplier, so if you’re looking to climb the ranks, no would be a good time to hit the ground and start leveling up.

Call of Duty Vanguard devs confirm nerfs coming for “overpowered” Shotguns – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard devs confirm nerfs coming for “overpowered” Shotguns ActivisionIn the 11 days since CoD Vanguard’s launch, Shotguns have been running rampant as one of the strongest weapon types in the game. Mercifully, Sledgehammer Games has now confirmed nerfs are already on the way. Outside of the two meta picks in the STG44 AR and the MP40 SMG, one weapon type has made more of an impact than anything else in CoD Vanguard: Shotguns. With plenty of smaller maps in this year’s title, Shotguns have been near-unstoppable early on. You can’t go more than half a second on Das House without taking damage from a handful of these “overpowered” Shotguns. But after almost a fortnight of close-range dominance, devs have confirmed help is on the way: Shotgun nerfs are coming in an upcoming patch. Sledgehammer Games has heard the frustration with Shotguns in Vanguard loud and clear. One clip, in particular, is how the devs decided to frame their response. After a player called in a V2 Rocket in just 30 seconds with their Shotgun doing all the work, the play went viral with over 2.5 million views on Twitter alone. As a result, devs chimed in on Nov. 16, revealing key balance changes are on the way. “We’re here to perform a Shotgun exorcism,” the official Sledgehammer Games account responded with an accompanying GIF. “It’s time for a nerf,” they added. Little else is know beyond the simple fact that Shotguns are now in line for some crucial damage reductions in the days to come. It’s more than likely we see this balance adjustment in the next Vanguard update. We’re here to perform a shotgun exorcism. https://t.co/RllPbzSFAU pic.twitter.com/PqDDfYgM9u — Sledgehammer Games (@SHGames) November 16, 2021 While an exact release date for Vanguard’s next patch remains a mystery, we shouldn’t have to wait long. We’ve already seen two new updates since the game launched, meaning a third could be right around the corner. We’ll keep you up to speed right here with specifics on the promised Cod Vanguard Shotgun nerfs along with any other changes as details emerge.

Call of Duty: Vanguard devs confirm fix coming for S&D bomb glitch – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Vanguard devs confirm fix coming for S&D bomb glitch ActivisionTo every Call of Duty: Vanguard grinder’s delight, the notorious Search and Destroy defuse bomb glitch is getting a fix. In a new announcement, Sledgehammer Games revealed that a solution is scheduled. On November 6, just a day after Vanguard’s release, former S&D coach MuTeX exposed a “heartbreaking” glitch in the beloved mode. With a number of tournaments already utilizing the mode, this issue quickly caught enough steam to gain Sledgehammer’s attention. Essentially, the bug ruined bomb defuses by giving the attacking team extra information. While bombs usually always say “defend” above them for the attacking team, this glitch changed that text to “defusing target” whenever a defender got on it. With MuTeX and others praying for an immediate fix, it appears that the devs are heeding the call. Although it’s unclear exactly how soon the change will come. Call of Duty: Vanguard S&D glitch fix “scheduled” There’s a fix scheduled for Vanguard’s S&D bomb glitch, per @SHGames 🙌 No timeline announced yet pic.twitter.com/yE17VnOTfK — Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) November 10, 2021 As you can see in the screenshot of Vanguard’s new Trello board, there is a “fix scheduled” for the “defuse bomb glitch in SnD.” Although this isn’t as ideal as a fix dropping with the November 10 patch, players are still happy about it. For one, it confirms that this was a bug and not an intended new S&D mechanic. For another, it’s a sign of transparency and suggests that a fix is already in place to deploy. I’m so sorry for doing this… But im 100% sure there are some people abusing this bomb defusing glitch. I just lost a wager match due to this glitch. Here is how you do it… Please fix it ASAP so we can continue to compete and not get robbed by cheaters. @ATVIAssist @SHGames pic.twitter.com/ztu0X8w8Pz — Charles (@MuTeX) November 6, 2021 In the replies to MuTeX’s original tweet exposing the situation, people were certainly concerned. JGOD assumed it had “to be an oversight” and pros thanked MuTeX for shining a light on the issue. We’ll keep an eye out for any further updates, but many are hoping that the scheduled fix comes sooner than later.

Call of Duty Vanguard Dead Drop glitch gives unlimited high killstreaks – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard Dead Drop glitch gives unlimited high killstreaks ActivisionCall of Duty: Vanguard players are constantly trying to achieve the highest killstreaks in the game, and there’s a Dead Drop glitch that is letting them get an unlimited supply of them. Vanguard released on November 5, bringing fresh content to the community and over 1,000 ways to customize weapons to go on killstreaks. Players can build the perfect loadout to try and get challenging killstreaks like Attack Dogs or Local Informants. However, this task has been made so much easier thanks to a bug with the Dead Drop Field Upgrade that is granting players the same streak multiple times. Vanguard Dead Drop glitch is giving unlimited killstreaks Dead Drop is a new Field upgrade that was introduced in Vanguard when used records your current killstreak score and saves your progress after you die. A Twitter clip posted by Dexerto’s Jacob Hale showcases this glitch in full effect as he rattles off multiple Attack Dogs without getting the requirement of 10 kills. Think I’ve found a Dead Drop glitch that basically lets you earn unlimited streaks. Earn your top killstreak, pop Dead Drop, use the streak. Once you die and respawn, you’ll be one off the top streak again? pic.twitter.com/vOMUN9lAPE — Jacob Hale (@JakeHaleee) November 20, 2021 Here are the steps to successfully do this and earn your top streak over and over: Use the Dead Drop Field Upgrade while 1 kill away from your top killstreak. – Use your top killstreak. – When you die, you’ll respawn 1 kill off of your top killstreak. – Use Dead Drop again. – Get another kill to earn top streak again. – Repeat over and over for unlimited streaks. – This glitch works because the game is keeping your killstreak after dying no matter what. For example, if you go on a 10 killstreak, use Dead Drop, and die you will respawn on your 10 streak still. However, if you use Dead Drop again it will save your 10 streak despite it only being there because of the Field Upgrade. It’s an endless loop of a killstreaks that you really aren’t on, but with this you can use them over and over. The CoD community doesn’t believe this is working properly and if that’s the case then players can expect the devs to patch this soon, as it can be abused and extremely overpowered on maps like Shipment and Das Haus.

Call of Duty: Vanguard comic book shows off new protagonist – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Vanguard comic book shows off new protagonist ActivisionSledgehammer Games teased a comic book inspired by Vanguard’s protagonist, Lieutenant Polina Petrova. Call of Duty: Vanguard’s release is right around the corner, and fans are gearing up for Sledgehammer’s first CoD title since WWII back in 2017. The Vanguard beta has launched, with PlayStation players getting the first taste of the action. As players get their hands on the game for the first time, there’s also some news about the story of the game, as well as a comic book, teased by the developers. Vanguard comic book Sledgehammer Games released a teaser for a comic book centered around one of the game’s four protagonists, Lt. Polina Petrova. Petrova is from the Soviet Union, a sniper from the 138th Rifle Division. Polina’s character is inspired by the real Lyudmila Pavlichenko, who was a sniper in the Red Army with over 300 confirmed kills. The writers of Vanguard are hosting a panel at New York Comic-Con on October 10, where attendees will get a free issue of the comic. The panel is titled, “Navigating a Narrative Minefield: Writing a Call of Duty Story Across Video Games and Comics.” The cover art of the comic teased in the tweet shows Polina surrounded by tons of dead soldiers, with a smoking rifle in her hands. Call of Duty: Vanguard is scheduled for release on November 5.

CoD Vanguard Champion Hill mode: Everything we know so far – Dexerto
CoD Vanguard Champion Hill mode: Everything we know so far ActivisionCall of Duty: Vanguard is looking to draw out the best players, as new mode Champion Hill looks to refresh familiar concepts. Sledgehammer Games are taking players back to World War 2 this November, as Call of Duty: Vanguard shifts the franchise focus back in time. Digging further into the past, Vanguard lets players “change the face of history, forming Task Force One in a gripping Campaign across four major theaters of war”. After uncovering a mysterious plot in Black Ops Cold War, the return to World War 2 is familiar ground for fans of the series. Until November 5 comes around, most of Vanguard’s secrets are behind locked doors. However, we can confirm the arrival of a new action-packed game mode. What is Champion Hill mode? Call of Duty is no stranger to shaking up familiar concepts and well-received ideas. Modern Warfare brought us a revitalized take on close-quarters battles, with the excellent Gunfight mode. Cold War sought out to please fans of the Black Ops series by including fan-favorite party games such as Stick and Stones, One in The Chamber, and Gun Game. While players have no doubt seen variations of these modes in other titles throughout the years, CoD rarely misses the mark when it comes to giving them a new lease of life. This streak continues as their sights are fixed on the upcoming Champion Hill mode. Taking a few tips from the Respawn playbook, Champion Hill seems to be CoD’s take on the popular Arenas mode-making waves in Apex Legends. “The fast and frenetic Champion Hill mode features a series of tournament-style head-to-head matches, where players can play solo (1v1) or squad up in duos (2v2) and trios (3v3) to battle it out in an arena consisting of four maps to be the last squad standing.” Additional info on Champion Hill #Vanguard MP Mode: Features a series of tournament style head-to-head matches, where players can play solo (1v1) or squad up in duos (2v2) and trios (3v3) to battle it out in an arena consisting of four maps to be the last squad standing . — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) August 19, 2021 Whereas Arenas opts for the classic Apex formula of trios, it is compelling to see Call of Duty give the player multiple options. According to Vanguard’s official announcement post, Champion Hill is “the next generation of the seminal 2v2 Gunfight mode first introduced in Modern Warfare.” More details on how matches will work are also briefly detailed: “Imagine quick-action, close-quarters, small-squad combat in which eight teams compete in a series of head-to-head matchups where the last team standing wins.” Eight teams in a smaller battle royale mode? The sweat is already pouring. In 3 days time, tune in to see a sneak peek at #Vanguard Multiplayer during the CDL Finals! pic.twitter.com/D2dCJq3i2T — Jon (@MrDalekJD) August 19, 2021 A new age for Gunfight in Vanguard Players will be able to get their first taste of Vanguard, from August 27 to August 29. Free for all PS4 and PS5 users, the Champion Hill alpha comes to the community ahead of the September beta. Bringing the fight to smaller arenas, you’ll want to grab your strongest allies as the fight to be the last alive grows in intensity. More details are likely to be revealed in the weeks to come, with the first Multiplayer reveal happening at CoD Championships. Keep checking back with us as more developments unravel.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Campaign mode: Characters, gameplay, story & more – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Vanguard Campaign mode: Characters, gameplay, story & more Sledgehammer GamesSledgehammer Games is no stranger to captivating fans with the WW2 aesthetic, and within Call of Duty: Vanguard, they’re going to be implementing some new mechanics into the campaign. When most of us think about Call of Duty, we don’t usually gravitate towards the campaign of these games, but back when Sledgehammer Games released CoD WW2, it featured one of the most enticing story modes we’ve seen in quite some time. With in-game choices that directly affected the outcome of the story, along with brutal combat, it featured a lot of mechanics we’ve not seen before. It appears Sledgehammer is once again going to be pulling out all the shots for Vanguard’s campaign, as they’ve revealed a flurry of details surrounding it. Call of Duty: Vanguard first gameplay revealed at Gamescom A new campaign mission titled “Stalingrad Summer” was revealed at Gamescom during their opening night livestream. The footage shows Petrova, a Russian sniper, stealthily take out enemies and parkour up ledges to find good positioning for sniping. Call of Duty: Vanguard to take place in multiple regions As opposed to Call of Duty: World War II, where the game was solely focused on the classic European front on the march to Berlin, for Vanguard, Sledgehammer Games spoke to multiple WW2 historians regarding certain battles that had drastic impacts on the war. This is why within Vanguard, there will be multiple battles that we’ll get to experience and some of which are going to be brand new within the CoD franchise. Dave Swanson, the current Campaign Director within Sledgehammer Games has noted battles will be fought in the following regions. Europe – North Africa – Soviet Union – Hawaii – Coral Sea Islands – Vanguard’s campaign will not only focus on the “big battles” This is an aspect that we’ve seen most WW2 titles lean towards in the past, as most of the time when we think about WW2, we think of large-scale battles between the Axis and Ally forces. But, within Vanguard, they also want to shine a light on the tragedies that were felt within civilian cities during the war. This new take on the campaign is going to bring a narrative focus on certain characters, and we’ll truly be able to understand some of the backstories of characters they’ve developed. Call of Duty: Vanguard’s campaign characters They’ve also spotlighted some of the characters within the campaign, showing a range of different backgrounds and journeys to embark on. Arthur Kingsley Lead character of the Special Forces Squad – British Paratrooper – 9th Parachute Battalion – Based on Sidney Cornell – – Polina Petrova 138th Rifle Division – Based on Lyudmila Pavlichenko – Expert Sniper – Helps people fend of Germans – – Wade Jackson Scouting Squadron Six (US Fighter Flight) – Based on Vernon Mike Micheel – Takes off the US Enterprise Aircraft Carrier – hero of the midway battle – Later becomes a pilot after crashing into a section of islands and gets rescued from the 93rd Infantry – – Lucas Riggs 20th Battalion (Australia) – North Africa front – Based on Charles Upham – – Heinrich Freisinger – Main Antagonist Director of Gestapo – – The story will follow the first four characters throughout Vanguard, and it’ll be interesting to see how Sledgehammer develops these characters over the course of the game. CoD: Vanguard campaign gameplay is brutal The final insight into the campaign for Call of Duty Vanguard is the overall gameplay and how it’ll play out during your run. One of the missions, Operation Tonga, which is set the night before D-Day, was shown to Dexerto. Some of the action and energy can be seen in the official reveal trailer: During this mission, players will parachute off of a burning plane into the ocean and will have to sneakily navigate through a forest. But, over the course of the mission, you’ll have to eliminate hostile forces and the takedowns are rather brutal. As well, there appears to be a sliding mechanic similar to Modern Warfare’s, and players will also be able to charge through doors, but the main takeaway from this mission was the extensive blood and gore displayed throughout. Sledgehammer Games are not holding back with this one. Call of Duty: Vanguard will release on November 5, 2021, for PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

Call of Duty Vanguard bug forces players to watch nonstop dog butts – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard bug forces players to watch nonstop dog butts Activision / PexelsCall of Duty: Vanguard’s MVP selection screen has a new bug, which gives attack dogs all of the attention — from the rear view. After being forced to see it, players are now sharing the bizarre glitch across the internet. Look, there are a lot of terms for what Vanguard players are experiencing right now. Doggy derrieres, puppy poopers, hound hineys — whatever you want to call it, there’s a lot of dog butt going on. And this isn’t some snarky metaphor for the game’s plague of hackers or frustrating absence of competitive features. No, there is literally a bug that subjects players to an MVP screen absolutely filled with the rear end of man’s best friend. So, without further ado, you can now see what all the commotion is about for yourself. Here’s what Reddit’s ‘Mayergaming’ found during the MVP screen following a casual game on Shipment. Call of Duty Vanguard’s MVP bug is all dog butt As you can see from the clip, things progressed normally at first. But, following a normal play of the game, the sound of barks began and, soon after, Mayer was introduced to behinds of three aggressive animals. Against a background chorus of woofs, each MVP nominee was introduced and — instead of the traditional Operator intros — Mayer was placed where the sun doesn’t shine. One has to assume this isn’t an intended new feature and, unsurprisingly, the clip is now all over the internet. Vanguard’s MVP dog butts go viral https://twitter.com/charlieINTEL/status/1462867925870821382 So there you have it. Many are already using this glitch as a metaphor for the game’s problems (which include frustrations over the MVP and POTG screens). Others are simply laughing and wondering, “what the dog doin’?” Nobody knows precisely what caused the dogs to steal the spotlight like this, but it’s one of the weirder bugs we’ve seen. The best guess is that it’s a consequence of someone calling in their Attack Dogs killstreak at the end of a match. Vanguard’s developers over at Sledgehammer Games have yet to respond confirming whether this is intended or a glitch. Until they do, be cautious when preparing to cast your votes.

Call of Duty Vanguard Beta patch notes: Maps, Modes, spawn fixes, more – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard Beta patch notes: Maps, Modes, spawn fixes, more ActivisionThe Call of Duty: Vanguard Beta is fast-approaching and players are excited for the Multiplayer reveal on September 7. While waiting to jump into the new title, Sledgehammer Games have announced the maps, modes, fixes, and more that will be available. The Vanguard Beta will be available for PlayStation players on September 10, 2021, before being released to everyone else on September 16. Players will be able to take on five different maps and six game modes, while trying out tons of weapons and leveling up. While the beta will be active for two weekends, players will see new content come in as time progresses. Also, they will be fixing issues that players reported during the Alpha, such as audio tuning and visual updates. Here is everything you need to know about the Vanguard Beta. Vanguard Beta: Maps & Modes CoD Vanguard is going to have 16 core multiplayer maps at the launch of the game and the beta will feature five of those. Here is a list of the maps: Champion Hill – Hotel Royal – Gavutu – Red Star – Eagle’s Nest (weekend 2) – While we have already seen Champion Hill, players will now be able to jump into four other maps with three of them coming out on the first weekend of the beta. On top of this, there will be six different game modes available. Fan-favorite modes, like Team Deathmatch and Domination, will return, alongside a new game mode, Patrol. Here are all the game modes that will be available in the beta: Champion Hill (Solos, Duos, Trios) – Team Deathmatch – Domination – Kill Confirmed – Patrol (Kicking off Saturday of Weekend 1) – Search and Destroy (Weekend 2) – Patrol is a new game mode that is similar to Hardpoint. The mode is described as an “objective-based mode” where players fight for points in a scoring zone that is moving around the map. From the short description, fans can expect a game mode that plays similar to the pace of Hardpoint. Vanguard Beta: Weapons & Combat Pacing While Champion Hill will still be available for the Beta, players will also have access to the Gunsmith of Vanguard. No weapons have been confirmed, but players can expect the same weapons from the Champion Hill mode and possibly the addition of others. Guns can be ranked up to level 30, so this means you can unlock different attachments on weapons and try them out. However, there has not been an official player level cap released yet. Also, PlayStation players will be granted 12 custom loadout slots while others will only get 10. Another new feature in Vanguard is Combat Pacing. This allows players to pick the lobby size of their games. This features three different options which are listed below Tactical: These are the lobbies that franchise veterans know well. This is the experience that you’re used to with classic Call of Duty combat timing. Tactical Combat Pacing is always 6v6. – Assault: Balanced combat pacing that gives you enough room to breathe and a lot of targets to kill. In Beta Weekend 1, player counts will vary between 20-28 players. – Blitz: High-action lobbies where the intensity is cranked up to frenetic levels. Prepare for plenty of combat when choosing to join a Blitz. In Beta Weekend 1, player counts will vary between 28-48 players. – Players can pick anywhere from classic 6v6 up to 24v24. This creates a whole new level of chaos on the WW2 battlefield. Vanguard fixes from Alpha to Beta While there were many known issues in the Alpha, such as graphics, audio, and spawn points, Sledgehammer Games is fixing some of those issues ahead of the beta. Players complained about not being able to see when being shot at, saying the blood on the screen made it too dark. In the beta, they have changed that, “help maintain visibility” while taking damage. Another huge issue was the lack of footstep volume, which is also being changed. Non-player footstep noises have been increased while non-player gunfire have been decreased. The team also went ahead and fixed spawn issues in Champion Hill to make them more “logical.” Full Vanguard Beta Patch Notes

Call of Duty Vanguard announces free trial for Shipment release – Dexerto
Call of Duty Vanguard announces free trial for Shipment release ActivisionCall of Duty: Vanguard is bringing back one of CoD’s most notorious action-packed maps: Shipment. And, to celebrate, the devs are giving players a weekend to play the game and map for free in mid-November. CoD is one of the world’s most popular first-person shooters, thanks in part to its gunplay and movement. And there may be no map with as much running and gunning as the bite-sized, high-octane Shipment. Delighting the adrenaline junkies out there, Shipment is making its return to CoD in Sledgehammer Games’ Vanguard. And this will come after a yearlong hiatus, with its last appearance in Modern Warfare 2019. But Sledgehammer want everyone to get a taste of the chaotic map’s return, even those who haven’t bought the new game. So there’s a free trial weekend scheduled, opening the floodgates to pandemonium. Call of Duty Vanguard free access & Shipment debut Call of Duty: Vanguard Multiplayer Free Access Period announced, play the entire MP free Nov 18 – 22. CoD players demand more diverse new weapons after Vanguard and Warzone Season 4 reveal – Dexerto
CoD players demand more diverse new weapons after Vanguard and Warzone Season 4 reveal Four new weapons are coming to Call of Duty Vanguard and Warzone as part of the Season 4 update — however, a lack of weapon variety has left players frustrated. The Warzone and Vanguard Season 4 update goes live on June 22 at 9 a.m. PT. Season 4 will introduce new weapons such as the Macro 5 SMG and UGM- 8 LMG at launch, and the Push Dagger and Vargo-S at a later date. Season 3 of Warzone and Vanguard added the Nikita AVT Assault Rifle, M1916 Marksman Rifle, and H4 Blixen SMG later as part of the Season 3 Reloaded Update. The H4 Blixen has quickly become a fan favorite gun, but fans are tired of receiving similar functioning LMGs and SMGs that don’t move the needle in Vanguard multiplayer. Warzone and Vanguard Season 4 update lacks weapon variety A Reddit user created a thread slamming the developers by saying, “We do not need another SMG. Back to back, we have gotten similar functioning LMGs, how about a new Shotgun or Assault Rifle.” Read More: JGOD crowns new Warzone SMG the best gun in the game ahead of Season 4 Part of the issue may stem from Vanguard only being able to pull new weapons from the World War 2 era, but several Reddit users pointed to some iconic weapons that have still yet to make an appearance. One Reddit user shared their frustration by saying, “how about the Lewis Gun, M1 Carbine, Lee Enfield, FG-42, Grease Gun, M1903, Springfield, M1941 Johnson, MG-15, MP-28, or even a Winchester Lever Action. There are plenty of options and the conflict of the era is quite interesting but they just don’t put enough effort in.” Read More: CoD Vanguard devs confirm iconic zombies weapon in Shi No Numa remake Adding fuel to the fire, no new Shotgun, Pistol, or Launcher has been added to Vanguard. For now, Call of Duty Vanguard fans will just have to sit back and hope that their favorite World War 2 weapons make a late appearance, before Modern Warfare 2 releases on October 28.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha perks, equipment, and streaks revealed – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha perks, equipment, and streaks revealed Sledgehammer GamesCall of Duty: Vanguard Champion Hill Alpha is almost here for PlayStation players. Sledgehammer Games have revealed how the mode will work, alongside weapons, perks, equipment, and killstreaks that will be available. It was announced during CDL Champs that the Vanguard Alpha will be coming August 27-29 exclusively for anyone on PlayStation. This mode features aspects of Multiplayer, Gunfight, and Battle Royale. Players battle it out in either duos or trios to become the champion. Here is everything that will be available in the Vanguard Alpha. https://twitter.com/CallofDuty/status/1430954517533691907 Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha Perks There will be a total of six perks that players can buy in each match. These perks all give a unique style to help you and your squad become the champion. Before jumping in you can check out what each of the six perks are and what they do. Ghost: Undetectable while moving by Spy Planes, enemy intel, and Field Mics. – Survival Training: Maximized resistance to stun effects. Immune to gas. – High Alert: Your vision pulses when enemies outside of your view see you. – Tracker: Enemies leave behind a footprint trail. See markers at enemy death locations and hide the death markers of enemies you kill. – Demolition: Extra lethal on spawn. Thrown lethals display an indicator showing the path of the lethal. – Double Time: Double the duration of Tactical Sprint. Increase crouch movement speed by 30%. – We’ve seen some of these perks before in other CoD games, but some have a Vanguard twist to them. High Alert in the Alpha will alert you when someone you can’t see is aiming at you. Also, the Ghost perk will only keep you hidden while moving around the map. Players can buy these perks in between rounds if they have sufficient funds to do so. Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha Equipment Prominent in Call of Duty, equipment plays a huge role in getting kills and winning games. In Champion Hill, there will be some classic ones ready to dominate. MK2 Frag Grenade: Cookable Fragmentation Grenade. – No. 69 Stun Grenade: Slows victim’s movement and aiming. – Throwing Knife: Retrievable knife that is lethal when thrown at the body or head. – Gammon Bomb: Impact Grenade. – MK V Gas Grenade: Explodes on impact with the ground, releasing a lingering cloud of gear gas that causes slowed movement, blurred vision, and coughing. – S-Mine 44: Proximity-triggered explosive. – As expected, frags, stuns, and throwing knives will return, but there are some new things CoD hasn’t seen. Gammon Bombs or impact grenades can play a huge role as Vanguard has destructible objects that can change the way a map can play. Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha Killstreaks Streaks are purchased, not earned in Champion Hill. There are a total of seven streaks that players can grab, each with a unique way to shape the game. These streaks will automatically activate at the start of the next round so players will want to be tactical with them. Spy Plane: Calls in a spy plane which reveals all enemy positions on the minimap to allies. Can’t be shot down. (This automatically activates in the next match.) – Flamenaut: Receive a flamethrower with unlimited fuel and a protective suit. Both lost on death. (This automatically activates in the next match.) – Deathmachine: Equips a machine gun with explosive rounds and a fixed number of bullets. Persists through death until ammo is depleted. (This automatically activates in the next match.) – V2 Rocket: Activates instantly, and drops a V2 Rocket, killing all players and ending the match. – Extra Life: Gain 1 additional life for your team. – Armor Plate: A single piece of Armor. – Full Armor: Full set of armor plates. – The eye-catching one is definitely the V2 Rocket, as it will activate and instantly end the match. There was no price tag listed with this but players can expect it to cost a lot of cash. Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha weapons, maps, & operators Not a lot of details were released regarding weaponry, but Sledgehammer Games did say the weapons are the same through each game. Each weapon has 10 upgrades and each one adds an additional attachment. There are two weapon sets that will rotate throughout matches each including ARs, LMGs, Shotguns, and Pistols. Additionally, there are four maps that will have unique lanes and ways to fight: Courtyard, Trainyard, Market, and Airship. Finally, players can play as four operators: Lucas Riggs, Polina Petrova, Wade Jackson, or Arthur Kingsley. These operators will be randomly assigned at the start of each match. This Alpha is set to drop very soon and players can pre-download the game now and be prepared to fight on Champion Hill.

Call of Duty: Vanguard adds 3 new ways to play: Blitz, Tactical and Standard – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Vanguard adds 3 new ways to play: Blitz, Tactical and Standard Sledgehammer GamesCall of Duty: Vanguard is going to be set in the Second World War, but developers Sledgehammer Games are implementing some new and exciting ways for players to jump into the battlefield, no matter the way they want to play. With the holiday season of 2021 being jammed pack with new releases, from Halo Infinite to Battlefield 2042, we cannot forget about the latest installment in the Call of Duty franchise, in Vanguard. Led by Sledgehammer Games, who are best known for their work on Call of Duty: WWII and Advanced Warfare, there are high hopes for this year’s title. With a key focus on replicating some of the forgotten stories within the Second World War, they’re also aiming to introduce new ways for players to play CoD. Normally, we are used to one style of play within the game, but this time around, they’re planning on implementing three separate playstyles we can opt into before jumping into multiplayer. Here’s all you need to know regarding the new ways to play Call of Duty. CoD: Vanguard features 3 ways to play multiplayer The simplicity of jumping into a multiplayer match in whatever CoD is out is something fans have become accustomed to, and more so, the pace of play within multiplayer has pretty much stayed the same over the years. However, Sledgehammer wants to shake things up a little bit, as, within Vanguard, there are going to be filters that players can opt into, depending on the style of pacing they want to experience. Blitz, Tactical and Standard are going to the be three modes players will have the choice to jump into, and we’re going to run over them down below. Blitz Endless amount of players on one map, this mode is meant for pure chaos and mayhem as there really isn’t any restrictions into what can go down – – Tactical The direct opposite of Blitz, as this way to play is going to focus on the intensity that combat brings. Every bullet matters in this pace of play, and the number of gunfights you run into will be drastically lower than Blitz – – Standard Your normal way to play Call of Duty, not too chaotic, but too slow – – It’ll be interesting to see which game mode players opt into more over the other ones, but we have our bets on Blitz being the most popular! Call of Duty: Vanguard will release on November 5, 2021, for PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

Call of Duty trickshotter hits absurd MW2 clip while literally underwater IRL – Dexerto
Call of Duty trickshotter hits absurd MW2 clip while literally underwater IRL Twitter, @Potter / ActivisionA Call of Duty player has upped the ante for the FaZe1 recruitment challenge with one of the wildest trick shots in CoD history. Potter nailed a trick snipe… while literally submerged in water in the real world. FaZe Clan launched their FaZe1 recruitment challenge on January 27, with over $1 million in prizes and a chance to join the gaming and esports organization. With FaZe’s humble beginnings in the CoD montage world, it’s no surprise that hopeful candidates have begun posting trickshots for consideration. One such fan, Potter, took things to the next level, though. More specifically, he took things underwater. With his setup moved to the bathroom, Potter laid fully clothed, swimming goggles included, in the tub and… hit a Modern Warfare 2 trickshot while submerged. CoD player hits literal underwater trickshot for FaZe1 challenge THE UNDERWATER TRICKSHOT! 🌊🛀 Easily the craziest shot I’ve ever done…#FaZePotter @FaZeClan #FaZe1 @FaZeApex @cbass @Banks @Temperrr pic.twitter.com/XOcvYEEFdw — SoaR Potter (@Potter) January 31, 2022 As you can see in the clip, Potter is laying in the tub when he dips his head underwater. At that point, with just his hands (holding the controller) and socked feet and legs above the water, he hits a falling, spinning snipe. After blindly shooting, he rose from the depths to see if it worked. As he spotted the round-ending kill on his screen, he let out a series of screams of increasing intensity – a number of howls before a resounding “did I just hit it? Let’s go!” This one’s for @TomBrady #FaZe1 #FaZePotter @FaZeClan @espn @SportsCenter @NFL @FaZeApex @Banks @cbass @NICKMERCS pic.twitter.com/2GX402y7xU — SoaR Potter (@Potter) February 1, 2022 While the responses were absolutely shocked at Potter’s underwater trickshot, he apparently wasn’t satisfied. With people still asking to buy his trickshot bath water and calling it the “most creative” snipe ever, he’s continuing to push forward. The latest clip, in honor of Tom Brady’s retirement, included a snipe following an IRL field goal. They say there’s a first time for everything and, thanks to Potter, we now know that to be true. As far as what’s next, he said in the replies that he’d like to try a skydiving trick shot if he wins the FaZe1 challenge.

Call of Duty teases Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle crossover – Dexerto
Call of Duty teases Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle crossover ActivisionCall of Duty teased a potential crossover event with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, highlighting an iconic villain. Activision has not shied away from ambitious crossovers for Call of Duty. Unfortunately, the franchise’s attempts to expand CoD’s universe received mixed reviews. Community members flamed an Attack on Titan mashup for being a “dollar store costume.” Warzone and Vanguard players labeled the Terminator bundle a huge “missed opportunity,” and content creators slammed the “awful” Godzilla vs. Kong event. Despite a few missteps in collaborations, Activision teased its first major crossover for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, and fans are ecstatic. Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 TMNT bundle teased On March 8, the official Call of Duty Twitter account posted a teaser trailer showing a potential crossover with TMNT. Fans immediately noticed a resemblance to the iconic TMNT villain Shredder, based on his infamous helmet and armor design. Shredder has been the franchise’s primary antagonist since 1984 and ties nicely to Warzone 2’s latest map Ashika Island. Ashika Island is an archipelago in the Asian Pacific region, and some of the landmarks are inspired by feudal Japan. In TMNT, Shredder is the leader of a criminal ninja organization in Japan and is loosely based on the appearance of a samurai. Season 2 introduced dual kodachis as a new weapon, perfect for Shredder to wield during battle. Community members flooded the comment section with excitement. One fan responded, “I’m so ready for this.” A second community member added, “I’m so ready for this.” Some fans hope that Shredder coming to the game also opens the door for teenage mutant ninja turtle skins. “I mean, you have to have the turtles if you have Shredder.” Activision confirmed that the skin hits the store on March 21, and we will provide more information when we learn more about the crossover.

Call of Duty Teases New Zombie Details for Black Ops 4 – Dexerto
Call of Duty Teases New Zombie Details for Black Ops 4 The official Call of Duty Twitter Account has released a new GIF featuring what appears to be zombie eyes. The only other detail is the text, which reads “Chaos awaits.” Black Ops 4 developer Treyarch is hosting a Zombies panel at San Diego Comic Con on July 19 at 1:00 PM PST, this tweet is most likely a teaser for the panel. There might be more information and clues in the GIF than it seems, because the color of zombie’s eyes have played a role in past Call of Duty stories. The eyes in the GIF are red, instead of the usual yellow or orange blend from most Black Ops zombies maps in the past. Red zombie eyes were featured in the Black Ops 2 DLC map “Mob of the Dead.” Read More: Full Division B Schedule for Week 8 of the CWL Pro League (Stage Two) – Matchups, Playoff Picture, Standings, and More – “Mob of the Dead” was considered unique because it had a mysterious connection to the overall zombie story arc throughout the Black Ops games, it was not until Black Ops 3 DLC that players discovered the events of “Mob of the Dead” were not a standalone story. Black Ops 4 will have three zombies maps at launch and one of them was revealed to be “Blood of the Dead,” which appears to take place in the same prison as the “Mob of the Dead” map. The tweet would seem to indicate more information regarding “Blood of the Dead” is on the way, but the Comic Con panel will most likely feature numerous details on all aspects of Black Ops 4 Zombies.

Call of Duty teases Die Hard John McClane crossover coming in Warzone Season 3 – Dexerto
Call of Duty teases Die Hard John McClane crossover coming in Warzone Season 3 Disney / 20th Century Fox / ActivisionCall of Duty is teasing another blockbuster crossover coming to Warzone and Black Ops Cold War, with a series of tweets hinting that John McClane — the main character from hit 80s film (and Christmas classic) Die Hard — will arrive in Verdansk ‘84 during Season 3. The 1980s are renowned for producing some of the greatest action movies of all time. With Warzone Season 3 going back in time and Verdansk landing itself in 1984, Activision seems to be going all-in on the 80s theme as they began teasing a potential Rambo crossover on May 6. While fans were already delighted by the prospect of jumping into Verdansk ’84 as John Rambo, it now appears that another John will be joining him, as the Call of Duty Twitter account has all but confirmed Die Hard’s John McClane will also arrive in Warzone during Season 3. Die Hard crossover teased for Warzone and Black Ops Cold War On May 8, the official Call of Duty Twitter account sent out a mysterious tweet: “Air ducts are a complicated network of danger. If yours are in need of repair, call the best in the business at Nakatomi Duct Cleaning.” The tweet included a link to the fake company’s website, which also referenced Nakatomi Plaza. While some players were stumped by the tweet, Die Hard fans quickly pointed out the obvious movie references: Nakatomi Corporation is where McClane’s wife works, and Nakatomi Plaza is where her office is located. https://twitter.com/callofduty/status/1391075433412763650 While the website didn’t offer much more than additional movie references — like an appointment button that opens a window where you can send an email to ‘john@nakatomiductcleaning.com’ (another reference to John McClane) — it did contain one direct reference to Warzone. A brief paragraph discussing the fictional company’s services ended with: “Contact us for all your needs in Verdansk and ask about our Christmas party discounts.” If this wasn’t indication enough that Die Hard content will be coming to Warzone, the CoD Twitter account all but confirmed it. As fans began responding to the teaser, popular Call of Duty content creator ‘PrestigeIsKey’ responded in disbelief, “Rambo and now Die Hard. Hold up.” The CoD account was quick to respond with an emoji covering its mouth, appearing to tease that they have more to say — but not right now. The account also responded to several other tweets pointing out the Die Hard tie-ins, and each time appeared to confirm that the fans were spot-on in their assumption about another 80s movie crossover featuring John McClane. When will Die Hard crossover arrive in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War? At the time of writing, Activision has not officially confirmed the Die Hard crossover is coming and hasn’t shared any teasers besides the Call of Duty Twitter account’s tweets, so we can’t be certain of when the crossover will actually arrive in-game. Season 3 has plenty of gas left in the tank, so it’s safe to assume the Die Hard crossover will be released prior to the start of Season 4. It’s unclear whether this particular crossover will launch alongside Rambo, but fans can expect some unique Die Hard skins to be added either way. With teasers out for Rambo and Die Hard, fans are already begging Activision to incorporate content from other hit 80s films into the battle royale. It’s unclear if John McClane will be Warzone’s last 80s crossover, but we’ll make sure to keep you updated on his arrival as more information is revealed.

Call of Duty swatter’s alleged co-conspirators arrested and charged – Dexerto
Call of Duty swatter’s alleged co-conspirators arrested and charged Three men have been charged by Federal agents in the United States for conspiring with the infamous Call of Duty swatter. In November 2018, Tyler Barriss plead guilty to 51 charges, including making a false report resulting in death and bomb threats to various states in the US and Canada, as part of a plea deal. On January 24, Neal Patel, Logan Patten, and Tyler Stewart were all charged by US federal agents for reportedly conspiring with Bariss in swatting attacks and false bomb threats. Additionally, Patel and Patten also face charges for bank fraud and threatening to injure in interstate commerce. If the men are found guilty, they could each face harsh penalties for each of the various charges laid out against them. While conspiracy carries a maximum five year sentence, fake bomb threats carry up to 10 years in prison. Of the three, Patel could be up against the most punishment of all given that bank fraud charges come with a prison sentence of up to 30 years. Patel and Stewart were arrested by the FBI on January 23, with Patten agreeing to turn himself over to authorities. While none of them were involved in the Call of Duty swatting incident that led to the death of Andrew Finch, they have all been accused of making other threats. There’s been no word on what the men will be pleading, but considering the treatment Barriss was given, they aren’t expected to be given much leniency.

‘Call of Duty swatter’ Tyler Barriss pleads guilty to 51 federal charges, receives sentence – Dexerto
‘Call of Duty swatter’ Tyler Barriss pleads guilty to 51 federal charges, receives sentence Infamous ‘Call of Duty swatter’ Tyler Barriss has accepted a deal that will see him serve 20 to 25 years in prison, after pleading guilty to 51 federal charges. The deal still needs to be approved by the judge who is presiding over his case, with Barriss able to recant his plea and proceed to trial if the judge chooses to decline the deal. The Los Angeles resident was arrested in the aftermath of a fatal swatting incident, when Barriss made a hoax call to law enforcement in Wichita, Kansas, claiming that he had murdered his father and was holding hostages in a house. Barriss believed the address belonged to Shane Gaskill, and had been asked by Casey Viner to perform the swatting after a dispute over a Call of Duty match. The house actually belonged to 28-year-old Andrew Fitch, and when the father of two opened his front door, he was shot dead by a police officer. Barriss was arrested in Los Angeles and then extradited to Kansas on charges of raising false alarm and manslaughter. Read More: Kansas ‘Call of Duty Swatter’ Tyler Barriss Reportedly Confessed After Arrest, Police Officer Testifies – Barris was then indicted on 46 new charges brought by federal prosecutors in both the Central District of California and the District of Columbia in relation to other swattings, credit card fraud and hoax bomb threats he made to several schools and federal agencies, including the offices of the FBI. Both will now head to trial, which is set to take place on Tuesday, January 8 in Wichita, Kansas. We will continue to update the story as more information is made available. H/T: AP/ Wichita Eagle
