Call of Duty streamer fires gun out of window after dying on Warzone Infinity Ward / TwitchA bizarre clip of a Call of Duty streamer has emerged, where the player fired a full magazine of a gun out of his window after dying in Warzone, during his Twitch stream. In an intense online game, particularly battle royales like Warzone, it’s all too easy to get increasingly frustrated when games don’t go your way. However, one Twitch streamer, who was playing under the “Faze sWiisH” gamer tag, took his post-game rage a bit too far, by taking a break from his Warzone session to empty out a full clip of his gun on-stream. During the streamer’s broadcast, his character was killed by an enemy in-game and, while he could still wait for his Duo to buy him back him at the nearest Buy Station, he proceeded to walk towards his window in the background of the stream. After opening the window, the streamer picked up a semi-automatic pistol, firing a full magazine directly outside and placing the gun on the table before returning to his stream. He continued to finish out the Duos session on Warzone but the clip stirred up a lot of controversy online in the following hours, with many discussing the streamer’s actions on Reddit. Shortly after the clip was shared, an image of what was outside the streamer’s window emerged, highlighting that behind his house (the direction he fired) appears to be a large open field area, so hopefully, no person or property was at risk of being hit. Despite the fact that the surrounding area seemed to be clear of people, his actions are still against the livestreaming platform’s community guidelines and can be punished by Twitch’s moderation team. The clip has since been removed from Twitch but as of now, it is unclear whether this was the result of a ban from the platform or if it was the streamer’s doing.

Call of Duty streamer erupts into explosive rage after dying in Black Ops 4 – Dexerto
Call of Duty streamer erupts into explosive rage after dying in Black Ops 4 Twitch – ToxicJaryo / Activision – Call of Duty: Black Ops 4Dying in a multiplayer game will always be a little frustrating no matter what, but this particular streamer was fed up and took his anger out in an extreme way. With the Call of Duty community anxiously awaiting the full release, professional players and streamers alike have been returning to previous titles to hold them over. One unfortunate streamer on Twitch couldn’t quite handle the frustration of repeatedly being gunned down in Treyarch’s Black Ops 4. In a September 25 stream, an already agitated ‘ToxicJaryo’ was shot in the back seemingly out of nowhere, and from this elimination, his anger reached a breaking point. “Dude, come on” he yells before slamming his desk and repeatedly punching one of his monitors in a display of pure frustration. As though punching his screen wasn’t enough, he continues to vent, claiming that the game is “f*cking ridiculous,” before picking up the monitor and forcefully slamming it down into his desk. Despite the explosive outrage, these hefty blows didn’t even mark the end of the stream for the ironically named gamer. Cooler heads prevailed after the lopsided sparring session and ‘ToxicJaryo’ went on to stream for another few hours with no further bursts of anger, at least not to this extent. The Modern Warfare beta was recently open to the general public across all platforms from September 19 through to September 23 and was met with a great deal of praise. With the Call of Duty scene booming of late, many current and former pro players have been rallying together for throwback tournaments to fill the void between the beta and the full release of Modern Warfare. The full game will be hitting store shelves and digital marketplaces on October 25 across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Many popular streamers have arguably endured much harsher luck lately throughout the Modern Warfare beta. From the game crashing one kill away from a nuke, to a new killstreak not quite living up to expectations. Evidently, there are much better ways to keep level-headed in aggravating moments like these but this poor streamer definitely isn’t the first and won’t be the last to go about smashing equipment.

Call of Duty streamer banned after “pretending” to hack in Modern Warfare 3 – Dexerto
Call of Duty streamer banned after “pretending” to hack in Modern Warfare 3 ActivisionA Call of Duty streamer was having some fun pretending to be a hacker in Modern Warfare 3, causing both his teammates and enemies to grow suspicious — but he couldn’t believe it when he actually got shadowbanned after. The hacking problem in Call of Duty is one that never seems to die off. Even after numerous ban waves and improvements made to the Ricochet anti-cheat system, the problem never dies down and, in 2024, many players have argued it’s getting even worse again. With that said, there are some creators who love to “bait” their viewers by pretending to be hacking, with Symfuhny the prime example of someone who claims to be doing this, garnering a huge number of hacking accusations in the process. This is exactly what streamer Bams claimed he was doing while playing some public match Modern Warfare 3, and his teammates were quick to take the bait and accuse him of cheating. Bams gets MW3 ban for “cheating” While playing on Shoot House, Bams started randomly snapping into different directions and ‘tracking’ opponents through walls, and his teammates quickly called him a cheater, even though he was simply snapping into the sky or locations where enemies just won’t be. While he and his teammates found it all funny during the game, they turned on him after securing the win, telling everybody in the lobby to report Bams, who pleaded with them not to. After the fact, he was disconnected from the Call of Duty servers and, upon checking, discovered that he had had his matchmaking limited — essentially meaning he was shadowbanned in-game. Whether Bams ends up getting a proper ban from the game remains to be seen, but as long as he stops “pretending to cheat,” he might just get away with this one and be able to carry on playing as normal.

Call of Duty strategy game ‘Global Operations’ launched on mobile – Dexerto
Call of Duty strategy game ‘Global Operations’ launched on mobile A brand new Call of Duty mobile game has been given a soft launch on Android’s operating system and is being tested in some parts of the world right now. Activision and Elex have labelled their new strategy game, Call of Duty: Global Operations, the “next tactical player-versus-player game” for the platform. Elex is well-known for developing and publishing Clash of Kings, an online war strategy game which recorded 65 million downloads in its first year. Its soft launch was reportedly discovered by Randy Nelson, head of mobile insights at Sensor Tower, who has revealed the game is currently being tested in both Australia and the Philippines where it has been downloaded just under 5,000 times. Call of Duty: Global Operations gameplay is available to watch online (video from PROAPK below), showing how players can build up bases, plot and engage in real-life MMO battles with other mobile gamers from a bird’s-eye view. In-game tasks will include recruiting different commanders, forming alliances or clans and putting together an army to fend off others – very similar battle components to Elex’s Clash of Kings. There will be a single-player campaign, as well as co-op and player-versus-player modes. The game is currently being accompanied by the following landing page on Android: “The discovery of a highly toxic and weaponizable element Nuclium NM (72) threatens to upset global order. As governments and private operators fight to control the limited Nuclium supply, the world begins to descend into anarchy. At the center of the conflict is GLOBUS, a malicious corporation hell-bent on using weaponized Nuclium to bring the world under its dominion. The only thing standing in the way is YOU. Build your military base and assemble a modern army led by classic Call of Duty characters. Then dive into epic multiplayer battles, using your own unique strategy to conquer players from all around the world. Think you got what it takes to save the world from anarchy?” As is the case with many of these unconfirmed soft launches and testing periods, though, we must stress that some of this information is unconfirmed at this stage.

Call of Duty stats answer Warzone theory with scary aim assist trend – Dexerto
Call of Duty stats answer Warzone theory with scary aim assist trend ActivisionAim assist has become a hugely divisive topic in gaming, and that only got worse in recent years when crossplay became common across several of the most popular multiplayer games in the world. And the stats prove it’s become even stronger in Call of Duty in recent years. The debate over the strength of aim assist became a fiery one when Fortnite first made crossplay a standard in gaming. Since then the discussion has seeped into just about every multiplayer game possible. This includes Warzone and the wider Call of Duty sphere, where top competitors, streamers and casual players alike are very firmly sat on either side of the fence. But, as the debate raged online about aiming in Call of Duty, and whether it had actually become easier, the stats and figures started to come out, proving once and for all how aim assist has changed over the years. Pulling out data from previous XclusiveAce videos, Warzone expert JGOD listed the aim assist range for rifles in each of the previous six Call of Duty titles. While it doesn’t date back too far, only going back to 2015 release Black Ops 3, the stats definitely indicate that aim assist has become significantly more powerful in recent years. Here’s the aim assist range for rifles dating back to BO3: BO3- 38m – IW- 31m – WW2- 37.5m – BO4- 37.5m – MW2019- Couldn’t Find a Range so Probably 200m – WZ- 200m – CW- 63m (SMGs) – Rifle Target Aim Assist Range Based on Going through Older @TheXclusiveAce videos BO3- 38m IW- 31m WW2- 37.5m BO4- 37.5m MW2019- Couldnt Find a Range so Probably 200m WZ- 200m CW- 63m (SMGs)— James – JGOD (@JGODYT) May 9, 2022 While Vanguard isn’t included in the list, and the Modern Warfare 2019 numbers aren’t definite, it shows a huge leap after Black Ops 4. In fact, Cold War SMG aim assist range was over double that of rifle ranges in Infinite Warfare, a truly stark contrast. While there may be other factors affecting this, such as map sizes, weapon power, and more, it shines a light on just how much aim assist has changed over the years. Will this end the debates around aim assist in Call of Duty, though? Probably not.

Call of Duty stars Fero and Tommey announce stacked teams for CWL Finals – Dexerto
Call of Duty stars Fero and Tommey announce stacked teams for CWL Finals Team Envy / Team ReciprocityWith the CWL Finals Call of Duty event fast approaching, Thomas ‘Tommey’ Trewren and Maurice ‘Fero’ Henriquez have announced who they will each be teaming with for the final open bracket tournament of the season. The upcoming CWL Finals in Miami will be split into two parts – one will be a $1.25 million Playoffs for the CWL Pro League, and the other an amateur open bracket with $150,000 on the line. Because the Playoffs will be limited to only those who are on active rosters of qualified teams from the Pro League, there will be a lot of professional players who will have to play in the open bracket, because they’re either not on pro teams or have been designated as substitutes. One of those players is Tommey, who started the Black Ops 4 season with Team Reciprocity but stepped away from competing midway through May. Having decided to return to the thrills of competition, the veteran player revealed on July 3 who his team will consist of at CWL Finals. Thomas ‘Tommey’ Trewren – Martin ‘Chino’ Chino – Nicholas ‘Proto’ Maldonado – Kaden ‘Exceed’ Stockdale – Byron ‘Linney’ Linney – Teaming with @MJCheen, @Proto626, @ExceedLbX and @ByronLinney_ for #CWLMiami and we’re looking for an organisation to represent. If you want to get in touch, my email is in my bio. — Tommey (@Tommey) July 3, 2019 One of the more stacked teams that Tommey and co. will have to compete against at the tournament will be the squad that Fero’s chosen to team with. Following his short and disastrous spell with Team Envy, the ex-100 Thieves man was unable to join another Pro League team ahead of the third and final roster change window, and has now announced his open bracket team for the $150,000 tournament. Maurice ‘Fero’ Henriquez – Jared ‘Nagafen’ Harrell – Tyler ‘FeLo’ Johnson – Saul “Parzelion” Masse-Siguenza – Eric ‘JetLi’ Phan – Going to be teaming with @Nagafen @f3rocitys @Parzelion and @EricJetLii heading into #CWLMiami and we are looking for an organization to represent. If you are interested feel free to contact the email in my bio! — Tyler (@FeLo) July 4, 2019 For most of these players, if not all, placing well at CWL Finals will be their only hope for qualifying for the CWL Championship in August – the most prestigious tournament of every season. The teams that finish in the top-16 will all clinch a spot for Champs, with the remaining 16 slots filled by the teams currently in the Pro League. Of the ten players listed above, only three have a chance to make it to Champs if they don’t qualify in Miami – Exceed, Nagafen, and FeLo. All three are currently substitutes for Pro League teams – Midnight Esports, Gen.G, and Evil Geniuses respectively – and could technically still be rotated back into the starting squad in time for the grand tournament in August. Both the Pro League Playoffs and the open bracket tournament of CWL Finals will take place July 19-21 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami, Florida. Prior to the event kicking off, the eight Pro League teams that failed to qualify directly for Playoffs will compete in a Play-In tournament on July 19, from which two more teams will advance to the Playoffs that weekend.

Call of Duty silently changes cosmetic that showed men “scoping out” women – Dexerto
Call of Duty silently changes cosmetic that showed men “scoping out” women ActivisionCall of Duty fans have noticed that a questionable cosmetic in Black Ops Cold War was silently tweaked, with players suggesting that the “Scope It Out” calling card originally depicted a form of workplace sexual harassment. As Activision Blizzard’s sexual discrimination lawsuit continues, Black Ops fans believe they’ve spotted an example of what they’re calling “corporate damage control.” CoD players are familiar with calling card cosmetics representing their energy in lobbies and scorecards, but the developers may have changed their minds on letting a calling card represent their brand. About a week ago, someone posted a Cold War calling card on Reddit and it immediately became a hot topic before being locked by moderators. Around a week later, the card — which showed two men seemingly checking out a female’s derriere — was adjusted in-game. Controversial CoD calling card changed “Scope It Out” calling card: before The original post, by ‘ThePeterMissile,’ asked a simple question: “Wasn’t Season 5 released when California sued Activision?” The top response to that post was upvoted by hundreds, simply replying: “I think this is a good representation of how seriously they’re taking it.” The “Scope It Out” cosmetic showed two zombies in professional, masculine attire at a water cooler, both staring at (or… scoping) the lower area of what seems to be a lady zombie’s backside. That type of behavior is considered by many to fall under “leering” and an example of workplace sexual harassment. As aforementioned, this post was quickly locked by the mods and, within days, the calling card had been adjusted in-game. Now, as shared by ‘Jawkess,’ the cosmetic only features the two male zombies and the lady has been edited out. “Scope It Out” calling card: after Community members in the replies are not only drawing lines between the calling card’s removal and Activision’s ongoing lawsuit, but also between the timing of its removal and the timing of the post. Overall, the cosmetic has been divisive. One user responded wondering what all the fuss was about: “What’s wrong with that? People are good-looking, even at companies.” But, the overriding consensus seems to be that the original post was in “bad taste,” or was simply “tone deaf,” with the most upvoted comments suggesting that the change is a “good thing” given discourse surrounding the lawsuit and workplace toxicity.

Call of Duty ‘signs’ Man Utd star Paul Pogba to Verdansk FC – Dexerto
Call of Duty ‘signs’ Man Utd star Paul Pogba to Verdansk FC CoD, TwitterManchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has secured a transfer to Call of Duty’s Verdansk FC, and just about everybody hasn’t got a clue what that even means. Some of you may be wondering if this is yet another master stroke from his super agent Mino Raiola. Or, whether he’s finally moved away from Old Trafford, following months of speculation – even dating back to Jose Mourinho’s time at the club. The World Cup winner announced the surprise move on August 12, posting the news to his 7.5 million followers on Twitter. At that time, nobody knew what was going on. The official Call of Duty account even followed up with a post of its own. On August 13, they confirmed the strangest transfer rumor this summer isn’t just a rumor. Just like a regular football transfer, it was only fitting that CoD announced his arrival with a promo video. https://twitter.com/CallofDuty/status/1293910179314974720 Talk about boxes being ticked. We’ve had a confirmation tweet from him. His new team following that up. A new jersey unveiled. On top of all of that, his reveal was bundled into yet another trailer of the world’s most popular battle royale game. Read More: The ultimate FIFA 21 defending guide – This all represents nothing more than an advertising campaign between the two, we understand. It could see Pogba jump into Warzone a few times more than usual for the time being, but we’ll have to wait and see on that front. For any Manchester United fans wondering if he’s actually swapped football for CoD esports, sadly that’s not the case. Maybe one day.

Call of Duty: Shroud and Skadoodle snowball their way to a Blackout victory – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Shroud and Skadoodle snowball their way to a Blackout victory Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek and Tyler ‘Skadoodle’ Latham have become well known amongst Blackout fans for their incredible skill and amazing victories. The pair, both former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive professionals, have become full time streamers, and much of their time has been spent on Call of Duty’s battle royale mode, Blackout. The game mode released alongside Black Ops 4 on October 12, and Treyarch have continued to update and add new items and weapons to Blackout, including the weapons of choice for shroud and Skadoodle in this clip, snowballs. These frosty weapons were introduced to Blackout on Thursday, December 13, with Treyarch’s Studio Design Director David Vonderhaar asking players to send him clips of them using the items to get the final kill as they won a match. For Latham and Grzesiek, the challenge was on, and it didn’t take long for the pair to earn a Blackout victory using the snowballs. The former Cloud9 teammates found themselves in a two versus one situation, with shroud spotting their final enemy on a rock below where he stood. Reacting quickly, he threw a stun grenade to blind his opponent, and began to pelt their opponent as they tried to secure the victory. The snowballs don’t deal a lot of damage, so shroud cleverly continued to throw stuns at their enemy, meaning he couldn’t fire back, and eventually the duo took him down and won the match. The pair were clearly happy with their work, laughing at the misfortune of their enemy, with Skadoodle giggling that their opponent was trying to heal, while shroud simply said: “I love it!” Snowballs aren’t the only recent addition to Blackout, as Treyarch released the v1.10 patch on Tuesday, December 18, which included custom games, new Specialists and map and audio improvements for the mode.

Call of Duty server outage causes delays during $2.5m CDL Champs tournament – Dexerto
Call of Duty server outage causes delays during $2.5m CDL Champs tournament ActivisionCDL Champs 2022 started off with an exhilarating match between Seattle and London. However, excitement quickly wore off as a server outage caused a slight delay. Out of all the days of the year, a server outage during CDL Champs has to be up there for one of the most unfortunate coincidences. Not only did the server outage happen during Champs, but it happened on the first day and just after the first match. Fortunately, the first match of the day delivered on all fronts. London and Seattle traded blows back and forth before the Surge eventually walked away with a 3-2 victory. Server issues have caused similar delays throughout the 2022 CDL season. It is not a great look for Activision to have its $2.5 million dollar tournament delayed by a server outage. Server outages cause CDL Champs delays CDL Intel confirmed that BO3, BO4, Vanguard, and Warzone servers all experienced issues. The delay prompted the question of why tournaments are being held online instead of LAN like other major esports. The Call of Duty League could do nothing but fill time with promo videos and other pre-recorded clips, as over 54,0000 viewers sat in the YouTube live stream. The action eventually resumed after a lengthy delay, and hopefully, it’s the last delay of the weekend.

Call of Duty series reportedly set for more remasters & Nintendo Switch debut – Dexerto
Call of Duty series reportedly set for more remasters & Nintendo Switch debut ActivisionMultiple Call of Duty remasters are reportedly in the works as Activision looks to bridge gaps between new mainline titles. In a franchise-first too, the FPS titan is reportedly set to make its debut on the Nintendo Switch. With 18 standalone titles spanning as many years, the CoD franchise has become known for its annualized release schedule. Although the trend is continuing through 2022, with the expected launch of a Modern Warfare follow-up, reports have indicated that 2023 could mark the first real break for the series. For the first time in almost two decades, the FPS juggernaut is seemingly leaving a gap in the schedule. While Activision has since denied these claims, stating that both “premium and free-to-play experiences” are still on the way in 2023, we may now have a clearer understanding of what that means. Rather than a full-fledged premium release, 2023 could serve as a year for newly remastered experiences instead. More Call of Duty remasters in the works? With ample titles to pick from, Activision is reportedly looking back through its CoD catalog to help “fill out empty space between premium titles,” according to insider ‘RalphsValve.’ Multiple classics are supposedly being considered for the remaster treatment, akin to the 2016 rerelease of the original Modern Warfare. World at War, Call of Duty 1 & 2 – backwards combatability for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered are currently what’s in conversation. Everything else was described by an associate as “complicated” — Ralph (@RalphsValve) March 24, 2022 Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty 1 & 2 along with Treyarch’s World at War are allegedly the leading candidates. All appear to be “in the conversation” for remasters purpose build with “newer consoles” in focus. The full extent of the remasters remains unclear. There’s no telling how far the purported upgrades will go with new PS5 & Xbox Series X | S hardware in mind. Call of Duty franchise reportedly making Switch debut Beyond the aforementioned remasters, the CoD franchise could also be set to break out on entirely new hardware. For the first time in series history, Activision’s hit FPS may soon be playable on the Nintendo Switch. “Modern Warfare Remastered is supposedly coming to Nintendo Switch,” the insider claimed. “Its first [introduction] into the franchise.” While a range of earlier CoD titles were ported to Nintendo hardware like the Wii, Wii U, and even some on the Nintendo DS handheld, the series is yet to appear on the Switch. Though that could soon be changing, if these reports hold true. There’s currently no telling which studio would lead development on this first-of-its-kind CoD port. However, it’s certainly something Microsoft has shown interest in, should its $70B acquisition of Activision Blizzard go through. “We’d like to bring [Call of Duty] to Nintendo devices,” Microsoft President Brad Smith said in early February. “We’d like to bring the other popular titles that Activision Blizzard has, and ensure that they continue to be available on PlayStation, and that they become available on Nintendo.”

The new features are part of the upcoming fourth season. The Summer Game Fest 2023 trailer, however, hinted at a partnership with the hit Amazon original series The Boys. Vondel brings The Boys to Call of Duty Season 4 In recent years, Amazon’s original series The Boys has become a phenomenon among pop culture aficionados thanks to its unflinching material critiquing traditional superhero comic book properties. Call of Duty: Scump reveals what it’s like to have Karma back on OpTic Gaming – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Scump reveals what it’s like to have Karma back on OpTic Gaming OpTic Gaming captain Seth ‘Scump’ Abner has revealed what it’s like to team up with three-time Call of Duty World Champion Damon ‘Karma’ Barlow again. The pair joined forces during the Advanced Warfare season in 2015, when Barlow replaced Matt ‘Nadeshot’ Haag on the OpTic Gaming lineup following his retirement. Joined by Matthew ‘FormaL’ Piper and Ian ‘Crimsix’ Porter, OpTic went on to have an incredibly successful run together which culminated at the 2017 Call of Duty Championships, when the squad brought home the Greenwall’s first world championship. However, during a difficult World War 2 season, OpTic Gaming decided to drop FormaL and Barlow from the starting roster, completing the year with Sam ‘Octane’ Larew and Anthony ‘Methodz’ Zinni. With World War 2 ending in disappointment when OpTic crashed out of the 2018 CWL Championships in the group stages, they once again turned to Karma, and Scump is delighted to see the Canadian return to the squad. “We got Damon back, so we got our squad back,” stated Abner in the December 20 edition of Vision. “Having Damon back has been incredible. The vibes were a little weird the first time I saw him in person at the CWL Championships, and that’s when I was begging him to come back.” “We went over to their house for Thanksgiving, and once we settled in it was like nothing had happened. We’ve admitted that we made mistakes, but for him to come back and accept what we did wrong, it just shows how good of a guy Damon is.” Karma’s return to OpTic Gaming proved to be an immediate success, with the squad winning the first Black Ops 4 event of the season in Las Vegas, which Scump claims proves Barlow “is one of the greatest of all time.” Their victory in Nevada means that OpTic have already qualified for the CWL Pro League,so the squad won’t be back in offline competition until February when the league kicks off.

Call of Duty sales figures show surprising results for Black Ops 4, WWII and more – Dexerto
Call of Duty sales figures show surprising results for Black Ops 4, WWII and more Statistics have revealed intriguing sale figures for Call of Duty: WWII and Black Ops 4 on both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, revealing which has been the best selling current-gen CoD. As anticipation mounts regarding the upcoming release of the next Call of Duty title, Modern Warfare, figures have been released regarding the sale totals of the current-gen games in the franchise; Black Ops 4, WWII, Infinite Warfare, Black Ops 3 and Advanced Warfare. Best selling current-gen CoD The report, which covers sales in the United States through May 2019, has revealed that WWII, developed by Sledgehammer Games, is currently the highest selling current generation CoD game on both consoles. Released in November 2017, the game earned over $500 million within three days of release and is only bettered in sales by Grand Theft Auto V on both the PS4 and Xbox One in the US, according to a report from The NPD Group. Red Dead Redemption II performed much better on the Sony console than Microsoft’s – overtaking WWII to take second spot. Black Ops 3 or Black Ops 4? On the Xbox, Call of Duty Blacks Ops 3 has sold more than its successor BO4, which is unsurprising given it has been available for almost four years, while Black Ops 4 was only released in October 2018. Xbox One – Grand Theft Auto V is the best-selling title of the generation on Xbox One while 5 Call of Duty games rank among the top 10. (3/4) pic.twitter.com/o4EYu2Auyd — Mat Piscatella (@MatPiscatella) July 1, 2019 Shockingly though, Black Ops 4 has actually outsold Black Ops 3 on PS4 already, an incredible statistic given how much longer the latter has been on sale. Perhaps the addition of the battle royale mode Blackout has given BO4 the advantage. PlayStation 4 – Grand Theft Auto V remains the best-selling game life to date as Marvel’s Spider-Man becomes the top selling PS4 exclusive this generation. (2/4) pic.twitter.com/QCFAIkn2HU — Mat Piscatella (@MatPiscatella) July 1, 2019 The stats highlight the accomplishments of the franchise, having five titles in the all-time list of top sellers on the Xbox, thanks to the popularity of both Advanced Warfare and Infinite Warfare. On the PS4, there was no place for Advanced Warfare on the list thanks to the overwhelming success of some PlayStation exclusives such as Marvel’s Spider-Man. The sales figures suggest that the demand from Call of Duty fans for a ‘boots on the ground’ game was massive, meaning the release of Modern Warfare – produced by Activision – could break many of the records set by the previous CoD titles. Combined with the nostalgia of the original Modern Warfare series, and no competition from Rockstar (Black Ops 4 was directly competing with the launch of Red Dead Redemption), it’s almost certain Modern Warfare will be a massive financial success when it releases on October 12.

Black Ops 2 and MW3 the last great Call of Duty games, sales figures show – Dexerto
Black Ops 2 and MW3 the last great Call of Duty games, sales figures show We all know the powerhouse that the Call of Duty video game series is but this chart shows sales have declined since Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops 2. Reddit user “sickgraphs” created an interactive graph that shows weekly video game sales of every major game since July 2008. The data continues all the way through to December 2018. Read More: The top 5 Call of Duty games of all time – The clear and most obvious trend is the spike in a particular video games’ sales upon release. Naturally, with any big title, gamers are eager to get their hands on it as soon as they can, which causes the initial spike. From there, sales naturally die off to a declining but consistent rate. The graph also makes abundantly clear that Call of Duty is the titan of video games – at least it is over the 10 year period. Every year since 2008, when Call of Duty: World at War was released, there is a significant spike in video game sales when the annual CoD game is released. Modern Warfare 3 at the top The height of this came for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 where its peak weekly sales hit nearly 10 million. To date, it is the best selling Call of Duty game with just over 30 million sales in total. It might surprise some that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is the best selling CoD game ever – even beating Modern Warfare 2… From after Black Ops 2 though, there was a decline in peak weekly sales, even though the series was often the best selling game of the year after that. Astonishingly, Call of Duty games make up seven of the eight top weekly sales of all games from July 2008 to December 2018. The only exception to this is, as you may have guessed, Rockstar Games’ GTA 5. Infinite Warfare a letdown The divisive Infinite Warfare is somewhat of an outlier on the list, selling a relatively meager 3 million copies in its first week. Its unpopularity was obvious at an early stage when the Infinite Warfare reveal trailer receives millions of dislikes. Even the allure of Modern Warfare Remastered bundled with it saw this particular not perform well. It should be noted that MWR was later released as a stand-alone game. Call of Duty: WWII saw the series rebound but failed to reach the heights of past games. Sales figures for Call of Duty’s latest game – Black Ops 4 – were down comparatively but the game did make $500 million in the first three days of its release, suggesting it was more than successful but not reaching anywhere near the sales of its last gen counterparts. Other takeaways from the graph are the resurgence of FIFA, although FIFA 19 saw a drop in comparison to the previous two versions. Red Dead Redemption 2 was the best selling game of 2018 but this is hardly surprising given the anticipation behind Rockstar’s release. Call of Duty the biggest The overwhelming takeaway from the graph, though, is that Call of Duty’s dominance in the video game market is unparalleled. Call of Duty’s dominance may not be what it once was but its title alone will generate sales for years to come. Will Call of Duty ever reach the peak of its past successes? Probably not, but it doesn’t need to, to be successful.

Call of Duty Reveals the First ever look at the Nuketown Bunker – Dexerto
Call of Duty Reveals the First ever look at the Nuketown Bunker A new teaser video from Call of Duty potentially revealed the first ever look at the infamous Nuketown Bunker. The video highlighted the all new Recon Car, which will be available in both Multiplayer and Blackout, but the attention quickly turned to Nuketown. The video shows the Recon Car entering a cement structure which appears to be located on Nuketown island. Here is a still of the video that shows the structure’s surroundings. ‘Diner’ is the first visible name in the teaser. David Vonderhaar referred to a ‘Diner’ as a zombie area during a Blackout stream on September 7. Black Ops 2’s Tranzit Zombies map featured a Diner area. Read More: How Inventory, Backpacks, and Equipping Items Will Work in CoD: Black Ops 4 ‘Blackout’ Battle Royale Mode – The Nuketown Bunker caused numerous conspiracy theories when it appeared in Black Ops 2 for the ‘Nuketown Zombies’ map. The closed off shelter became the subject of countless amounts of clickbait videos offering ways to get in. Fans speculated that an Easter Egg could open the doors to the bunker, but the puzzle was never solved, if it existed at all. Blackout in Black Ops 4 will be the first time Zombie fans can actually go inside the famous bunker.

Call of Duty reveals best Fennec loadouts for Modern Warfare & Warzone – Dexerto
Call of Duty reveals best Fennec loadouts for Modern Warfare & Warzone Activision[jwplayer mnhpUTeb] In a bit of an unusual move, Call of Duty has shared their official recommended loadouts for the popular, high rate-of-fire SMG, the Fennec. Ever since its release within the game a couple of months back, one weapon that’s been absolutely dominating the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone metagame is the Fennec SMG. While it hasn’t seen the type of play like the Grau assault rifle has, you’d be hard-pressed to find a game in either mode where the weapon doesn’t show up. Because of this, it’s not unusual to see a slew of different and unique load-outs for the weapon, with everything from long-ranged extended fire variants to short, two-shot burst versions hitting the metagame. That being said, it looks like not everyone is done sharing their opinion about loadouts for the Fennec. In a fairly unexpected move, Call of Duty itself has shared a number of different Fennec loadouts via a 49-second video on its official Twitter account. In total, the video shared four different variants of the weapon and, while it didn’t label them or categorize them in any way, they each have their own playstyles. The first loadout seems to be aimed around CQB combat and steady aiming. The loadout utilizes the CQB Breacher Device, which allows you to melee faster, as well as the ZLR Blade stock and Tactical foregrip, both of which aid in aiming stability. On top of that, you also have the Mini Reflex sight and 40 round drums for good measure. The second loadout appears to be an all-around solid package. The Forge TAC CQS stock allows you to aim down sights quicker and the 1mW laser gives you more hipfire accuracy, while the Muzzle Break and Operator Foregrip give you more stabilization for the recoil. The 40 drum allows you lay down fire at a consistent rate. https://twitter.com/CallofDuty/status/1287841833490341889?s=20 The third loadout appears to be based around a more aggressive style of play, turning the Fennec into somewhat of an assault rifle. The ZLR 16″ Apex barrel and Merc Foregrip gives you a huge boost in range, velocity, and recoil control, while the suppressor keeps you silent – and who can forget about the 40-round drum, once again. The fourth and final loadout shared by Call of Duty seems to be an enhanced version of the previous one. While it keeps the ZLR 16″ Apex barrel, it replaces the standard suppressor with the ZLR Sabre, a custom suppressor for the Fennec. On top of that, it also adds the Tac Laser, Ranger Foregrip and the 40-round drum. All in all, it seems like a good variety of loadouts from Call of Duty. Some are clearly more CQB than others, while some basically turn the weapon into an assault rifle, which can be deadly. It is funny that the one consistency, in every single loadout, was the 40-round drum, seemingly confirming that Infinity Ward is aware that the weapon has an ammo problem. Regardless, it’ll be interesting to see if these loadouts gain any sort of popularity in the meta – or if the same loadouts still plague each game.

Call of Duty reveal Warzone Mobile is in development – Dexerto
Call of Duty reveal Warzone Mobile is in development ActivisionCall of Duty: Warzone is officially coming to mobile devices. In a new blog post, Activision Blizzard revealed that Warzone Mobile is in development, as well as some details about its studios and available job roles. While many suspected that Warzone would be integrated into the existing CoD: Mobile ecosystem, those suspicions have proven off-base. Instead, Call of Duty’s March 10 blog post indicates that a brand-new, AAA experience is in the works: Warzone Mobile. Announced on the two-year anniversary of its namesake, the company gave a glimpse at what they’re working on for the mobile iteration and what their plans are for its future. In the new blog post, CoD are mostly calling for candidates to join their Warzone Mobile development teams. In the process, they finally made the game official, gave some hints at the battle royale’s progress, and specified the studios working on it. Call of Duty officially announce Warzone Mobile As explained in the blog, Warzone Mobile is intended to provide “thrilling, fluid and large-scale action.” Further, the game is “being built natively for mobile with cutting-edge technology.” While the existing Warzone title is obviously the blueprint for mobile, it seems that the games won’t be interdependent. Warzone is already being prepared for a sequel, Warzone 2, in 2023 – but Warzone Mobile was described as a game that will exist “for many years to come.” Warzone Mobile development schedule & potential release date Call of Duty is also presenting a number of open positions needed for Warzone Mobile’s development. Across engineering, art, production, and product fields, the company is looking for a number of candidates throughout nine different job titles. These roles will fill opportunities in the following studios: Solid State Studios, Beenox, Digital Legends, and Demonware. With senior roles yet to be filled, and a number of engineering roles needing help, it seems unlikely the game will be ready anytime soon. As those jobs fill up and more details emerge, we’ll update fans on when they can expect to play the finally announced mobile BR.

Call of Duty players report losing all content on Black Ops 3 and 4 accounts – Dexerto
Call of Duty players report losing all content on Black Ops 3 and 4 accounts TreyarchCall of Duty players are reporting the loss of all content on their Black Ops 4 accounts on July 4 which is making everything from “DLC guns, reactive camos, paints/outfits/stickers,” and more disappear. As Treyarch are looking to close out its current Operation Spectre Rising with Operation Apocalypse Z soon to follow, fans will want to know their accounts are primed and ready for any new loot to come. That might not be the case for all, as players are finding their accounts seemingly wiped from both bought and earned content, making them apprehensive from earning anything else in game. In a Reddit thread, user ‘lolipop3k’ highlighted their on-going issue with Black Ops 4 and Activision support as they continue to look for a way to resolve the on-going issue. “Myself, and many others lost all of our content yesterday,” lolipop3k said. “DLC guns, reactive camos, paints/outfits/stickers, my entire reserve history is gone, things I have actually purchased in the Black Market are gone and they’re trying to resell them to me, in Zombies all of my consumable Elixirs are gone, my 9000 Nebulium Plasma is gone, yet my tier progress has stayed the same.” While at least lolipop3k got to keep their tier progress, but that might have convinced the player to refrain from playing even more: “I don’t want to play, for fear of any progress I make being reset when they (hopefully) return my stuff. Which means I haven’t been able to play during this four day weekend (in the States) so far, and I’m not going to be able to get my Ultra Weapon Bribe from the 4th event.” Looking for at least a consolation to their troubles, lolipop3k “figured [they’d] play some Black Ops 3” while waiting for a fix, but was met with more problems: “It’s happening there too. Ffs. All my Gobblegums I had are gone and I only have 30 Divinium when I know I had a few hundred saved.” Black Ops 4 account resets are being looked into As mentioned, lolipop3k was sure to reach out to Activision’s support to open up a case but they have yet to find a way to reinstate the player’s in-game items. The support team is gathering up any information from its Call of Duty players in hopes that they can find and implement a solution to the problem soon. With many looking forward to a long weekend, hopefully Activision finds a way of rectifying the issue to get players back into matches with all of their Black Ops 4 items.

Call of Duty Release Newest Teaser for Black Ops 4 Ahead of Community Reveal Event – Dexerto
Call of Duty Release Newest Teaser for Black Ops 4 Ahead of Community Reveal Event A new cryptic teaser has been posted by Call of Duty for the upcoming Black Ops 4, which will finally be revealed on Wednesday May 17th. Up to now, publishers Activision and development studio Treyarch have been characteristically secretive about everything related to the new game, but fans have had some minor glimpses of what to expect. Including hints about a potential pick 10 create-a-class system and confirming perks will be in multiplayer (as well as some very strong clues that the game will be boots on the ground), there is a lot of positive energy leading up to the big reveal. And as the anticipation heightens, Call of Duty have whetted the appetite of fans once more, with a very cryptic GIF image. It is near impossible to make out what the image actually is, as it is grainy and saturated in the iconic orange color of the Black Ops logo. However, there certainly looks like a weapon barrel of some description flashes past, and possibly the head of a character. Here are some stills from the teaser GIF – make of these what you will. It is impossible to tell what mode this relates to, although some have suggested it does increase the likelihood of a story/campaign mode of some form, despite reports that Black Ops 4 would not have such a mode. However, it could just as easily be related to multiplayer or Zombies, or a yet to be announced mode. The community reveal will take place on May 17th at 10am PDT, and you can watch live on Call of Duty’s Twitch channel.

Call of Duty Release Another Teaser For Black Ops 4 – Potentially A Big Zombies Hint – Dexerto
Call of Duty Release Another Teaser For Black Ops 4 – Potentially A Big Zombies Hint With the community reveal for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 fast approaching on May 17th, another teaser clip has been released to whet fans appetite. In the lead up to the community event, three GIF images were teased by the official Call of Duty social channels, some showing weapons and even a molotov. Most fans believed that these teasers were multiplayer related, given the leaks and rumors that there will be no single player campaign for the first time in a major Call of Duty release. This is yet to be confirmed of course, but previous teasers from developers Treyarch included perks and the pick 10 system. As these are certainly multiplayer related, it points to no campaign mode being included. Now though, a fourth teaser has been released, and this time looks like it definitely does relate to multiplayer. In the teaser, which typically is low quality and pixelated, a character wearing a robe of some description seems to hold something in their palm – possibly a bullet. There is a possible link here to the Zombies teaser which Treyarch released previously, which seems to hint at a religious/cultist theme of some kind. The robe looks similar to that worn by a priest, and if we are to believe that there is no campaign mode, then Zombies would be the next logical conclusion. Fans will know for sure on May 17th, when the community reveal will go live at 10am PDT, and you can watch it right here.

Call of Duty: Red Reserve announce new US base after failing to find team house in Texas – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Red Reserve announce new US base after failing to find team house in Texas Red Reserve / Ayman LouizaRed Reserve’s European Call of Duty players will be operating out of the USA for the majority of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 season, but their initial plans have already changed somewhat. The British players had been on the hunt for a US base of operations since the release of Treyarch’s latest CoD title, with Texas being on the top of their list for potential destinations. Unfortunately, the search in the southern state was bore no fruit, forcing the team to look elsewhere. However, on November 29 it was revealed that they had finally found their new home, settling on Vegas. “Plan was to move to Texas, couldn’t find a house that worked so we had to switch it up,” said Rhys ‘Rated’ Price on Twitter. “Tomorrow me and the squad will be flying out to move Into our new team house In Vegas, excited and very appreciative of this opportunity from Red, I want my first win this year nothing less.” The Welshman went on to confirm that the team will be putting more of a focus on streams and content once they’re settled in, saying: “You will get constant streams from us out there & also will have pictures and videos of the house.” you will get constant streams from us out there & also will have pictures and video’s of the house from @RedReserve as soon as we make them, time to cop a W for Europe. — Rhys Price (@Rated_COD) November 29, 2018 Rated’s comments about wanting his first win are hardly surprising. Red Reserve were the bridesmaids at CWL Atlanta and CWL Anaheim during the WWII season and also took third place at the CWL Pro League Stage 2 finals. Rated and company were the best European hope for the majority of the season but struggled to get over the final hurdle and take home a trophy. Rated also finished second at CWL Sheffield during the Infinite Warfare season and the Call of Duty World Championship in Black Ops 3. Two of his teammates, Trei ‘Zer0’ Morris and Ben ‘Bance’ Bance, have tasted success at a major event, winning the CWL Global Pro League Stage 1 Finals in 2017. The fact that squads like Red Reserve and Team Reciprocity have decided to base themselves in North America for the Black Ops 4 season shows that the Europeans mean business and will be coming in swinging at CWL Las Vegas on December 7.

Call of Duty Ray Gun replica going for a whopping $600 has fans divided – Dexerto
Call of Duty Ray Gun replica going for a whopping $600 has fans divided Call of DutyActivision surprised the Call of Duty community by announcing a replica Ray Gun, but an expensive price tag has scared some fans away. There hasn’t been much to celebrate as a Call of Duty zombies fan of late. Community members flamed Treyarch for a “dumpster fire” addition to the franchise in Call of Duty Vanguard. The developers caught flack for removing round-based gameplay and classic features. Treyarch heard the criticism and wrapped up the game’s life cycle on a high note, adding three new round-based maps. However, Modern Warfare 2 does not feature a zombies game mode, and we don’t know if Sledgehammer Games plans on developing zombies for CoD 2023. Zombies fans finally received some much-needed reprieve when Activision revealed a replica Ray Gun weapon, but it comes at a price. CoD Zombies fans split over expensive Ray Gun replica weapon The Ray Gun is an iconic CoD zombies weapon that has appeared in all seven series entries. On March 27, Activision released a $600 Ray Gun Statue Replica on the Call of Duty Shop. The item is currently available for pre-order and begins shipping in June. The Ray Guns has built-in LED lights and a unique Mystery Box mount. Community members expressed a mixture of excitement and frustration over Activision’s announcement. One fan responded: “Seen better ones for cheaper.” Several community members argued that $250-$300 would have been a much more reasonable price, especially since plenty of replica Ray Guns on Etsy and other websites already exist. A second zombies fans joked: “It better shoot for that price. Despite an absorbent price tag, other community members disagreed and were tempted to splurge. Summarizing it perfectly, a third fan added: “Man, I need this.” For any passionate zombies fans out there, it will be hard to turn down the opportunity of owning a Ray Gun, but $600 is certainly nothing to scoff at for any consumer.

CoD pros give verdict on Modern Warfare beta – ACHES, Karma, more – Dexerto
CoD pros give verdict on Modern Warfare beta – ACHES, Karma, more Call of dutyA number of professional Call of Duty players have voiced their opinions on the direction Modern Warfare is taking following the release of the multiplayer beta. The much-anticipated release of Modern Warfare is fast approaching and many fans have been expressing their opinions on the current state of the new Call of Duty after trying the multiplayer beta. Some of the top Call of Duty pros also took to social media to voice their opinions on their in-game experiences with the multiplayer beta leading into the inaugural year of the Call of Duty franchised League. Trei ‘Zer0’ Morris, who has previously competed for FaZe Clan, was among the first to reflect on the Modern Warfare beta and praised Infinity Ward for quickly making changes and testing new features with the beta, such as the return of the mini-map. “Infinity Ward are really doing what they should do for a beta, loving the changes they’re making every day” Zer0 expressed, before highlighting one of his favorite additions to the new CoD, “outlining your teammates was a good play from them, hope that stays.” Infinity ward are really doing what they should do for a beta, loving the changes theyre making everyday, do see if its better or worse, i thibk a regualar mini map would still be better but outlining your team mates was a good play from them, hope that stays. — (treiboi carti) (@TreiZer0) September 15, 2019 Two-time world champion Patrick ‘ACHES’ Price also had some positive feedback about the beta, also siding for the minimap to return to normal as well as a list of minor changes that could be taken on board to improve the competitive balance of the game. Among the list of changes were tweaks to the current headshot multiplier, which many believe is currently too strong and can often result in players getting lucky flinch shots on their opponents. The former Team Envy star also had some concerns about the current state of ‘Dead Silence’ field upgrade, which is normally seen as a perk in Call of Duty, in the beta and expressed that IW would “need to lower footstep volume a significant amount.” Also adjust headshot multiplier. + maybe swap some perks around so it’s more balanced system. I personally like dead silence being a field order but I think they need to lower footstep volume a significant amount. If dead silence was a perk everyone would use trophies/SP rounds — Patrick Price (@ACHES) September 15, 2019 Veteran player Chris ‘Parasite’ Duarte was also in favor of seeing the minimap return, although he had major concerns about respawn points in the beta, as many players have experienced instantly dying off spawn due to some flaws in the current system. “Game felt a lot better with a minimap to base things off” The former World Champ admitted, “Although the spawn system is terribly flawed, I started to get a better idea of possible enemy spawn points.” Game felt a lot better with a mini map to base things off of. Although the spawn system is terribly flawed I started to get a better idea of possible enemy spawn points. I’m not a huge fan of having to look at so many corners of my screen for info though, compass, map, outlines.. — Christopher Duarte (@Parasite) September 15, 2019 Jordan ‘JKap’ Kaplan was a little more disappointed then some of his fellow pros at the beta, highlighting the return of Claymore explosives to Call of Duty, sarcastically posting, “I am so happy they brought Claymores back!” I am SO HAPPY they brought Claymores back! SO HAPPY! WHO DOESN’T LOVE CLAYMORES — Jordan Kaplan (@JKap415) September 15, 2019 Ex-GenG player Chance ‘Maux’ Moncivaez raised some concerns about the trophy systems also being added to the field upgrades list, rather than as a standard equipment choice, explaining why the lack of possibilities to use the trophy system could make the gameplay similar to CoD: WWII with grenades and stuns. Why is a trophy system a field order? It’s about to be WW2 all over again with the nade and stun spam — Chance (@Maux) September 14, 2019 Three-time world champion Damon ‘Karma’ Barlow actually got a little burned out with the beta itself, also citing concerns with the spawns, and the lack of minimap (although it was added a day later, albeit without showing enemy fire). I’m NGL I don’t know if I’ll stream the beta today. Domination spawns are atrocious + no mini map (Can’t tell where anyone is, influencing spawns etc) and they removed HQ playlist. Yikez. — Damon B (@OpTic_DKarma) September 13, 2019 Longtime OpTic CEO, Hector ‘H3CZ’ Rodriguez, shared some of his optimism for the upcoming Call of Duty title, expressing that the fan-favorite Search and Destroy game mode was “going to be fire” in Modern Warfare based off what he has seen so far. SND in this game is going to be :fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire: — Hector Rodriguez (@OpTicH3CZ) September 14, 2019 Tommy ‘ZooMaa’ Paparatto was also excited for the next CoD release, likening his experience on the multiplayer beta to Call of Duty: Ghosts and revealing that he is enjoying the game so far, “This feels like call of duty ghosts to me and I love it.” Modern Warfare is set to be the first game to be played in the upcoming Call of Duty franchise league, beginning in 2020. Although the game is likely to change somewhat from the current state of the beta, many competitive players seem generally optimistic for the release of on October 25, although there remain some concerns.

Call of Duty pros stunned by Halo Infinite Beta’s ranked mode & team skins – Dexerto
Call of Duty pros stunned by Halo Infinite Beta’s ranked mode & team skins Activision / 343 IndustriesHalo Infinite released a multiplayer beta early and, within moments, brought suffering to Call of Duty pros. Shocked by the game’s competitive offerings, CDL pros have honed in on Vanguard’s lack of ranked play and team skins. The relationship between a game and its esports scene is a complicated one. While developers want their games to be as accessible as possible to casuals, the competitive itch needs its scratching too. Ranked play is often seen as the linking point between a casual game and its esport. It’s typically a playlist where players can dip their toes into the esport experience. Similarly, having team skins is oft-regarded as an easy way to give the esport some love with casual cosmetics. Halo Infinite released its multiplayer early, with both ranked play and team skins, and immediately gave accompanying news about its HCS esport. While this was exciting for Halo players, CoD enthusiasts — particularly the pros — are pained by the beta’s competitive offerings. Halo Infinite beta releases early with ranked play and team skins CoD community is taking the Halo Infinite news very well 🤗 pic.twitter.com/6hzTghUAHn — Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) November 15, 2021 Within moments of the Halo beta dropping, CDL pros were quick to react. The LA Thieves’ Dylan ‘Envoy’ Hannon responded to the team skins and ranked play additions with a gif of Spongebob’s Mr. Krabs twitching in agony. Minnesota ROKKR coach Brian ‘Saintt’ Baroska joined in, tossing in a gif of a lady screaming while noting that Halo got those aforementioned perks while Vanguard has “squad spawns and damage rounds.” While there are already Call of Duty League team skins, there aren’t any new ones with Vanguard yet. And, to many’s disappointment, the new game also released without a ranked mode — for the third time in the CDL’s three years. Vanguard players want a ranked playlist ASAP Some say a game’s ranked mode is vital for its esport… So who has better ranked play, CoD Vanguard or Halo Infinite? 😖 pic.twitter.com/c85FeuoZ4J — Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) November 17, 2021 On Twitter, we asked players what they thought of Halo’s team skins compared to Vanguard’s. CoD pros like the Atlanta FaZe’s Alec ‘Arcitys’ Sanderson immediately laughed at the question. Other fans wondered why such a question would even be asked when Vanguard doesn’t have skins yet. Similarly, we trolled by asking whose ranked playlist is better — highlighting the absence of ranked play for Vanguard thus far. One user responded by appreciating Halo’s developers: “The devs that care have the best ranked.” One has to imagine that ranked play and team skins are coming to Vanguard, but the timelines are uncertain. In the meantime, CoD players seem to be looking at Halo with mixed feelings. They’re happy that Halo is treating its competitive community so well and so early, but suffering a little because that’s so different from their own experience.

Call of Duty pros slam Vanguard spawns amid CDL Major II controversy – Dexerto
Call of Duty pros slam Vanguard spawns amid CDL Major II controversy ActivisionCall of Duty League pros including Scump, Attach, and Slasher have blasted spawns in Vanguard as they continue to constitute major talking points at the CDL Major 2 in Minnesota. Call of Duty League fans have become accustomed to the League’s scheduling now we are into its third season; weekly qualifiers build-up to Major tournaments wherein significant prize money and CDL points are up for grabs. We are well underway with CDL Major II, taking place as the Minnesota ROKKR’s Home Series. It has thrown up plenty of surprises, with Major I winners OpTic Texas going home in 5-6th and an incredibly strong Toronto Ultra lineup going home joint last. However, despite it being nearly 6 months since Vanguard’s launch, plenty of people in the CoD esports scene continue to lament the game’s spawns, a trend that has intensified at Major II, with some truly bizarre scenarios cropping up in vital matches. Frustrations with the Vanguard spawn system were raised during OpTic Texas’ elimination match with the Florida Mutineers. A clip from the game quickly surfaced on Twitter, showing OpTic wipe Florida off the map, only for the Mutineers to spawn directly behind the OpTic players. Speaking about the clip, CoD legend Scump commented sarcastically: “Just gotta read that I guess.” Echoing Scump’s feelings was ex-teammate Nadeshot, who now owns the Los Angeles Thieves CDL franchise. He joked that Vanguard’s spawn logic “deserves a prison sentence.” They were joined by ROKKR’s Attach, who sarcastically thanked whoever invented squad spawns before saying that in Vanguard “[You] get a squad wipe and you spawn them at a random location.” Get a squad wipe and you spawn them at a random location on the map! Cheers — MN Attach (@Attach) April 3, 2022 Rounding off the frustrations was LAG’s SlasheR, who tweeted a still image of the Florida spawn with a thumbs up, again tongue-in-cheek. When a team is killed entirely, standard spawn logic dictates they spawn back where they came from, meaning the team with the kills is rewarded and can consolidate their position. The OpTic vs Mutineers match, though, saw Florida flip spawns despite being wiped. OpTic were naturally caught off guard and appeared punished, despite actually racking up kills. Fans and players will be hoping Sledgehammer make quick adjustments but, with months elapsed since Vanguard’s release, perhaps we’ll just have to accept the seemingly odd spawns.

Call of Duty pros show how self-sabotage is actually a viable strategy – Dexerto
Call of Duty pros show how self-sabotage is actually a viable strategy Instagram: prestinnijs / Infinity WardCall of Duty veterans have had enough of Modern Warfare’s spawning system, leading various teams to go against the grain and figure out ridiculous new strategies to avoid certain spawns. Since its release in 2019, Modern Warfare has been plagued by all sorts of issues. From devastating bugs in-game, to a supposed lack of financial support in the amateur scene. Arguably the most prevalent talking point of them all, however, is in relation to spawns. Spawning locations have been in issue since the start of the Call of Duty League and after months of practicing on a wide variety of maps, pro players have figured out a new way to change their spawns. In the midst of a scrim against the Paris Legion lineup, Florida Mutineers were down by roughly 50 points in a game of Hardpoint on Rammaza. Spawning in an unfavorable position, the team decided to go for a new strategy in order to escape from the sketchy location. Counting it down, four members of the squad threw grenades at their feet in almost perfect synchronicity. In doing so, they respawned on the complete opposite side of the map and were able to push forward to the next Hardpoint without facing much competition. “Honestly outplayed,” Preston ‘Prestinni’ Sanderson joked on Twitter while sharing the play from his perspective. Setting off a debate within the competitive community, a number of professionals chimed in and outlined how the cheeky tactic would actually violate the League’s rulebook in an official match. “It’s been banned in P2P for a long time,” Damon ‘Karma’ Barlow added, emphasizing that we won’t be seeing the strategy in any upcoming CDL matches throughout 2020. It’s certainly a testament to the quality of spawns in Modern Warfare that even some of the most experienced players in the scene are opting to wipe themselves out for a better shot at success. Rammaza remains in the Hardpoint pool for the time being however, so expect lopsided spawns to pop up from time to time when CDL games head to that particular map.

Call of Duty pros name the best Modern Warfare player – Dexerto
Call of Duty pros name the best Modern Warfare player The Call of Duty League is officially underway, and players are competing at the highest level for money, pride and bragging rights. But who is the best player in the game? Alongside huge veteran names such as Seth ‘Scump’ Abner and Ian ‘Crimsix’ Porter, there is a wide selection of young talent just looking to prove that they’re the best in the world. The likes of Dylan ‘Dylan’ Henderson and Chris ‘Simp’ Lehr were dominant towards the end of last season, but has that continued in Modern Warfare? At CDL Launch Weekend in Minnesota, Dexerto spoke with a bunch of the pro players to ask them one simple question: who is the best in the game? Across eleven different pro players, the results were almost unanimous, with Atlanta FaZe’s Tyler ‘Abezy’ Pharris being tipped as the best in the game by seven of the group asked. Chicago Huntsmen’s Scump said that he’s “nuts,” and that some of what he does is “just disgusting.” This sentiment was echoed by the likes of Dillon ‘Attach’ Price and teammate Simp, who were singing the praises of Abezy, who only went pro at the beginning of the Black Ops 4 season. Elsewhere, Matthew ‘FormaL’ Piper backed his Hunstmen teammates Peirce ‘Gunless’ Hillman and Alec ‘Arcitys’ Sanderson, describing their insane natural talent and knowledge of the game as “disgusting.” Abezy’s long-time teammate Simp also got a few mentions for best player in the game by the likes of Paris Legion’s Matt ‘KiSMET’ Tinsley and Abezy himself, who was quick to gas up his Atlanta teammate. There were two other names mentioned among the best – Adam ‘Assault’ Garcia of the Minnesota Røkkr said that teammate Adam ‘GodRX’ Brown is the best, while London Royal Ravens’ Jordan ‘Jurd’ Crowley bestowed the honor upon his teammate Dylan. It’s still early days, so a lot could change, but it seems that for now everybody is playing catch-up with Abezy and his Atlanta FaZe side.

Call of Duty pros livid about changes & bugs discovered in silent update – Dexerto
Call of Duty pros livid about changes & bugs discovered in silent update Infinity WardCall of Duty League players have discovered a set of secret changes to the game that were pushed through in a silent update and are now furious with developers for a lack of transparency. After the CDL thrilled its players by granting them a 60hz GB integrated ladder to scrim on instead of the former 12hz servers, the league’s professionals are now bothered by concerns with a contrastingly unprofessional update that they didn’t know was coming. The NBA has never secretly changed the distance of the three-point line or the points allocated per free throw (partially because the players’ union would never allow it). But Infinity Ward’s spontaneous change to Call of Duty’s spawn locations and Trophy Systems is now being dubbed yet “another infamous silent spawn patch” by legendary veteran, the Dallas Empire’s Ian “Crimsix” Porter. The spawn changes are infuriating for the game’s top players, as teams devise entire game-plans around what spawns they want to secure or force their opponents into. Changing these without telling anyone about it can be seen as a disservice to the hours these players have poured in. This is evidenced by Trei “Zer0” Morris of the London Royal Ravens, who had a simple, yet emphatic response to the spawn changes: “Cannot believe my eyeballs on what we are dealing with this year.” The rumours are true spawns have changed, cannot believe my eyeballs on what we are dealing with this year with this game. pic.twitter.com/CxZAb7xHjR — cartier (@Trei) June 4, 2020 As for the changes that wholly impact everyone – not just professionals – there seems to be a bug caused by the latest unspoken update in which Trophy Systems now no longer do their job. Dylan “MadCat” Daly of the Royal Ravens was one of the first to notice this, tweeting, “Now trophies don’t work, I’m laughing myself into tears here.” As evidenced by these reactions, players would much rather hear about prospective changes beforehand rather than discover them during games. Nick Nolson, who plays with Daly’s Challengers team, was quick to provide evidence of the equipment bug, showing a clip in which a grenade thrown well within the traditional range of his deployed Trophy System manages to pass by unscathed and kill him. While Crimsix has posited that the spawn changes and removal of Domination’s “last-second ticks” may only be on the CDL’s scrim servers, he remained dissatisfied and asked that changes be “relayed through the proper channels” in the same Twitter thread. Changing the game is fine, even encouraged, as CoD pros are quick to settle on “Gentlemen’s Agreements” when developers are slow to enact changes—but the league’s players appear to prefer that adjustments happen transparently and following open dialogue.

Call of Duty pros Crimsix and JKap debate the best ‘3rd game mode’ in competitive – Dexerto
Call of Duty pros Crimsix and JKap debate the best ‘3rd game mode’ in competitive CWL/eUnitedCall of Duty professionals have been debating the best ‘third game modes’ in CoD esports, with OpTic Gaming’s Ian ‘Crimsix‘ Porter seemingly not a fan of any that have been used in recent titles. Competitive CoD has seen significant variation in the third game mode featured, depending on the title and the game modes it shipped with. This year’s Black Ops 4 sees the first inclusion of Control, a game mode with limited lives centered around capturing or defending two zones. However, the 3rd game mode has varied significantly in recent years, with a number of modes supplementing Hardpoint and Search and Destroy. CoD: WWII used Capture the Flag (CTF), Infinite Warfare used Uplink, Black Ops 3 and Advanced Warfare used both CTF and Uplink, while Ghosts used Blitz (and domination in place of Hardpoint). Blitz is a game mode that has not been in any CoD since and was the center of many complaints throughout the Ghosts season. On June 2, Crimsix tweeted his tier list of the best third game modes, with Blitz on top, followed by Uplink, CTF and then Control. In fact, he even sarcastically put “massive pile of dogshit” above the latter three. Best 3rd game modes in COD: Blitz [Massive pile of dogshit] Uplink CTF Control— Ian (@OpTic_Crimsix) June 2, 2019 Blitz required players to reach an enemy goal to score points. On doing this, they were instantly teleported back to their own spawn point. Some members of the competitive community felt that Blitz’s focus on ‘sneakiness’ over skill made it a poor representative mode for Call of Duty at the highest level. Jordan ‘JKap’ Kaplan disagreed though, arguing that Blitz was “by far the worst” after Crimsix doubled down and stated it was ‘the best’ – although his follow up reply suggests he was being sarcastic all along. I feel like you’re trolling me but Blitz was by far the worst — Jordan Kaplan (@JKap415) June 3, 2019 The OpTic star went on to say that the whole thing was a “troll” and that, in fact, the best third gamemode was sabotage: “Sabotage is the best and there’s no contest.” Sabotage is a bomb-based game mode, similar to Search and Destroy, and was a staple in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, but the mode has been absent from CoD title’s since 2011’s Modern Warfare 3. Ex-CoD pro turned analyst Jonathan ‘Pacman’ Tucker agreed with Crim’s assessment, saying “Sabotage >>”. Current OpTic Gaming SMG Thomas ‘TJHaLy’ Haly, said that Uplink was the best third game mode. Uplink was dropped after Infinite Warfare, despite its return as ‘Gridiron’ in Sledgehammer Games’ WW2. It’s clear that Hardpoint and Search and Destroy are established favorites among the competitive community, with the 3rd game mode still hotly debated. With fans, professional players, developers and organizers alike still looking for that perfect combination of game modes for Call of Duty esports, those included in the franchise’s next release, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, are anybody’s guess. Love it or hate it, though, spectators and players will have to put up with Control for the remainder of the Black Ops 4 season.

Call of Duty pros “can’t play” Crown Raceway F1 map after reported legal troubles – Dexerto
Call of Duty pros “can’t play” Crown Raceway F1 map after reported legal troubles ActivisionCall of Duty pros are apparently not allowed to play MW2 map Crown Raceway, presumably only for official Call of Duty League competition, shortly after the map was allowed back into the game following reported legal troubles. Crown Raceway is a map based on the Marina Bay Grand Prix Formula 1 race track in Singapore. It features the F1 vehicles, pit lanes, and the surrounding areas of the race track, complete with the sound of cars racing around the track. After a lot of promotion pre-release, the map — which was called Grand Prix before launch — mysteriously disappeared, with all promotional material around it vanishing from the internet. It came back ahead of the game’s launch, with a new name, and any issues surrounding the map seemingly cleared between Activision and Formula 1. That might not entirely be the case, however, as Call of Duty League pros have apparently been told they’re not allowed to play the map. During team scrimmages between Boston Breach and Minnesota Røkkr, the teams were playing through certain hardpoint maps. Once they had played through their first set, stream viewers (and even the players themselves) asked whether they would be playing Crown Raceway, as it’s proven to be very popular among players. While discussing it privately, Røkkr’s Dillon ‘Attach’ Price claimed that opponent Anthony ‘Methodz’ Zinni had text him, saying that “we can’t play” the F1 map, with the rest of the Røkkr team clearly baffled by the decision. This came after some rumors started to swirl around why the pros had not been practicing on Crown Raceway, with some suggesting that they might actually not be allowed to play it at all. It’s believed that this is due to the legal issues that were reported in regards to the map, though nothing has been made official yet. Dexerto has reached out to Activision and the Call of Duty League for comment.

Call of Duty pros call for Vanguard to add classic maps from MW3, WW2 & more – Dexerto
Call of Duty pros call for Vanguard to add classic maps from MW3, WW2 & more ActivisionCall of Duty League pros are reminiscing about older maps ahead of the Vanguard 2022 season. Looking back at games like Modern Warfare 3 and WW2, they’ve named some maps they’d like to see return. Bringing back classic maps is a key cornerstone of the CoD franchise. With a new game every year, principally designed by one of three developers, each title is a chance to dive into some nostalgia. While the casual Nuketown and Shipment maps are practically constants in the FPS series, other maps don’t get as much love. While Black Ops Cold War brought back competitive locales like Raid, Express, and Standoff – Vanguard hasn’t been quite as reminiscent. So, with the map pool determined for the start of the CDL 2022 season, we asked players what was missing. Minnesota ROKKR didn’t shy away from the question, naming a bunch of classics they think would fit Vanguard. CoD pros reveal MW3 and WW2 maps they want in Vanguard Asked @ROKKR if they like any of the CDL 2022 maps and if bringing back USS Texas could help. Turns out they’d prefer some other throwbacks, like Arkaden, Bootleg, London Docks, and Sainte Marie 👀 pic.twitter.com/Wx0kP3Q2ow — Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) February 1, 2022 After being asked about the current competitive map pool, the players didn’t exactly seem thrilled. Maps like London Docks and USS Texas have been rumored for potential remakes, though, which means the options could be changing. While Michael ‘MajorManiak’ Szymaniak said USS Texas would be “one of the last maps” he wants added, the team did name some others they’d prefer: Arkaden (MW3) – Bootleg (MW3) – Sainte Marie (WW2) – London Docks (WW2) – From London Docks and Arkaden to Strike and Bootleg, CoD pros have been talking about OG maps a lot lately… Which map’s return are you hoping for? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/V7TubV3cEa — Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) February 2, 2022 Another pro player, the New York Subliners’ Ian ‘Crimsix’ Porter, has also been speaking about classic maps recently. In a tweet, he called CoD 4’s Strike “the best Call of Duty map of all time for both pubs and competitive.” Unfortunately, Strike is originally an Infinity Ward map so it’s unlikely it gets repurposed for Vanguard. The other four, however, all have bases in games developed (or co-developed) by Sledgehammer Games, so there’s a chance they could come back. With the newest CoD title already sitting on 20 maps, it’s unclear when new maps will be added – or which ones will make the cut. If the pros had their way, we know which ones would lead the list.

Call of Duty pro’s barber leaks OpTic & Dallas Empire CDL merger – Dexerto
Call of Duty pro’s barber leaks OpTic & Dallas Empire CDL merger Pexels / USPTOProfessional Call of Duty’s offseason rostermania is known to be an especially chaotic time of year. But a new leak has set the bar… as a barber leaked the rumored merger between the CDL’s OpTic Gaming and Dallas Empire. Sports and esports have their similarities and their differences. One hotly contested similarity has been roster leaks, which are widely accepted in traditional sports but often questioned in esports. In the CoD scene, there have been a variety of roster leakers known to the community over the years. Most recently, Cory ‘CRONE’ Davis has become the source of team rumors — including the Paris Legion and unannounced Washington squads. But a new leaker seems to be making his presence accidentally felt. After giving Empire pro Indervir ‘iLLeY’ Dhaliwal a cut, the barber leaked that the pro’s “new venture” included OpTic and the Empire. Barber leaks OpTic Dallas CDL merger Not the rare barber leak 😭 OpTic Empire content must be on the way… pic.twitter.com/yD8WyvtbX4 — Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) October 27, 2021 As you can see in the embedded image, iLLeY’s barber wanted to show off the fade he gave his client. Saying that he “cleaned up my dawg [iLLeY] for his new venture,” he then tagged both OpTic and Empire below. This echoes what has become the most widely known secret across the CoD community. The merger between former rival franchises was leaked back in August and pro players have even talked about the rumored roster. Instead of playing off the initial Instagram post as a joke, the barber actually deleted and re-uploaded it without any mention of “new venture” or OpTic. But you know what they say, everything you post on the internet is permanent. So, that’s where we’re at. Neither of the franchises nor iLLeY have responded to the situation — but one has to imagine that official news of the rumored merger can’t be too far away. Check out our hub for more CDL offseason rostermania news and follow us on Twitter at DexertoIntel for the up-to-date leaks.

Call of Duty pros Bance and Seany announce new team for CWL Finals and Champs – Dexerto
Call of Duty pros Bance and Seany announce new team for CWL Finals and Champs MLGA new Call of Duty team has been put together for the upcoming CWL Finals and Champs, featuring two longtime pro players Sean ‘Seany’ O’Connor and Ben ‘Bance’ Bance. The CWL Finals event in Miami will feature two major and high-prized tournaments – the $1.25 million Playoffs for the CWL Pro League, and a $150,000 amateur open bracket that will award 16 teams a spot in this year’s Champs. With many pro players finding themselves off Pro League teams for one reason or another, many have chosen to team up for the open bracket competition, seeing as how they won’t be able to compete in the Playoffs. Two such pros include Seany and Bance, who have decided to team together for the open bracket, where they’ll hope to earn a spot in the biggest tournament of the year next month. Their squad features three amateur players, two of whom currently play for Fierce Esports and one for Alliance. Sean ‘Seany’ O’Connor (sub for Team Reciprocity) – Ben ‘Bance’ Bance (F/A) – Shea ‘QwiKeR’ Sweeney (Fierce Esports) – Byron ‘Nastie’ Plumridge (Fierce Esports) – ‘EmigrantChain’ (Alliance) – Me, @QwiKeR, @Bance, @Nastiee_ & @EmigrantChain will be teaming for Miami & Champs. We will be looking for a organisation to represent, we will have 2/3rd seed. If you want to get in touch DMs are open & E-Mail is in my bio (i will still be under Reciprocity). — Sean (@SeanyCod) July 7, 2019 Both Seany and Bance started the Black Ops 4 CWL season on Team Reciprocity and Red Reserve respectively, two teams that eventually qualified for the CWL Pro League. Seany was dropped from Rec’s starting lineup in June, in favor of newcomer Alex ‘Alexx’ Carpenter, taking up the substitute’s role that had previously been occupied by Thomas ‘Tommey’ Trewren, who himself also has built a team for Finals. Read More: Stacked Play-In bracket announced for Pro League Playoffs at CWL Finals – ft LG, Envy, and more – As for Bance, after Red Reserve shut down their CoD esports operations, he ended up on Denial Esports, who themselves imploded shortly thereafter, forcing the team to use the impromptu name Units. His last action with Units was at CWL Anaheim, where they finished 9-12, after which he was completely dropped from the team and did not get picked up by any Pro League teams during the third and final roster change window. From these five players, only Seany technically has a chance of qualifying for Champs if the team fails to place in the top-16 at the CWL Finals open bracket tournament. Seeing as how he’s still Team Reciprocity’s substitute, he could still be rotated back into the starting lineup ahead of next month’s season finale, although that seems like a long-shot proposition at best. When is CWL Finals? CWL Finals will take place July 19-21 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami, Florida. The proceedings will start with the Play-In tournament for the Playoffs on the 19th, followed by the Playoffs itself and open bracket tournament over the weekend.

Call of Duty promises “stronger” anti-cheat in Modern Warfare 3 with new ‘Splat’ mechanic – Dexerto
Call of Duty promises “stronger” anti-cheat in Modern Warfare 3 with new ‘Splat’ mechanic ActivisionCall of Duty has promised a “faster and stronger” iteration of Ricochet anti-cheat with Modern Warfare 3, including new mechanics to ruin hackers’ games and, hopefully, deter cheaters even further. Hacking has been a major problem in Call of Duty for some time, especially with the launch of Warzone battle royale in March 2020, which brought cheaters to the forefront and absolutely took Verdansk by storm before the Ricochet anti-cheat was created and implemented into the game. While it has been by no means perfect, the system has been great in countering hackers most of the time — but, of course, many still slip through the cracks, and can often be caught cheating for higher placements in ranked modes or even just ruining other’s games. But, with updates coming for MW3, that could be set to change. Activision promise “faster and stronger” anti-cheat In an announcement on November 9, the day before the game’s official launch date, Call of Duty explained that with new Machine Learning advancements, “Ricochet is preparing for the launch of Modern Warfare III with a stronger and faster process to combat cheating.” The aim is not only to target hackers and banish them on a more widespread and consistent level but to target them much quicker. Anti-cheat ‘Splat’ mechanic They will also be introducing a new ‘Splat’ mechanic, intended to troll verified Warzone cheaters by doing pretty much exactly what it sounds like. With Splat, if a cheater is discovered, they” may randomly, and for fun, disable their parachute sending them careening into the ground after they deploy.” If the cheater is caught after they’ve deployed, Splat can also adjust player velocity, which “transforms a bunny hop into a 10,000-foot drop taking them out instantly.” However, Splat won’t randomly turn on for a player that isn’t verified to be cheating. Player reporting won’t turn it on, and the game can’t accidentally activate it, meaning this will be for players who have been proven beyond doubt to be hacking in Warzone. These changes are expected to take place alongside the launch of Modern Warfare 3, so there should be discernible improvements almost straight away.

Call of Duty pro Temp names his top 5 gun-skilled CDL players – Dexerto
Call of Duty pro Temp names his top 5 gun-skilled CDL players Call of Duty LeagueFormer New York Subliner, Donovan ‘Temp’ Laroda, is using his offseason wisely and giving the fans what they want: pure content, including rankings of the Call of Duty League’s top five gun-skilled players. Now a free agent during a chaotic CDL offseason, Temp has some time to answer fan questions and give his professional perspective on his fellow players. As someone with a strong reputation for his gun skill in particular, the former Advanced Warfare MLG Breakout Player and CDL Home Series champion has called upon his six years of professional experience to break down the league’s best “gunnies.” Despite some chemistry concerns and an eventual release with the move to 4 vs. 4 for CDL 2021, Temp showed off some incredible gunplay in the inaugural Call of Duty League season and his perspective on other competitors is intriguing. During one of his Twitch streams, his chat asked for his point of view on the other Call of Duty pros, based specifically on gun skill, not on chemistry, positioning, or whatnot. As a guy who has made a living off of shooting straight above all else, his answer was illustrative and should actually fit the rankings of most competitive Call of Duty fans. For context, he chose not to base this list off of just one season or one role, instead deciding to include players who may have been slept on in 2020 but still proved their worth over the preceding years. Upon being asked “which players still got the best gunny?” Temp proceeded to give his “All NBA 1st Team” for gunnies, which alludes to the NBA’s end-of-year denomination for the league’s five best players (and is complemented by rookie and defensive teams). Temp’s 5 best Call of Duty Gunnies Temp – Cuyler ‘Huke’ Garland – Brandon ‘Dashy’ Otell – Peirce ‘Gunless’ Hillman – Sam ‘Octane’ Larew – No one will be surprised that Temp included himself on the list (and, to be fair, his chat was smart to phrase the question with him already included), but new CDL fans may be surprised by some inclusions. While Huke had a tremendous year and played a major role on the Dallas Empire’s CDL Champs run, Dashy and Gunless got benched and Octane played well, but on a bottom-tier team. But, although Dashy, Gunless, and Octane had unimpressive seasons on Modern Warfare, Temp and the community know just how clean their aim is. With the continued emergence of gunners like Chris ‘Simp’ Lehr and Tyler ‘aBeZy’ Pharris, it will be interesting to see if Temp is forced to change his list in 2021.

Call of Duty pro players react angrily to upcoming Black Ops 4 balancing update – Dexerto
Call of Duty pro players react angrily to upcoming Black Ops 4 balancing update A number of professional Call of Duty players have reacted to the upcoming balancing changes in Black Ops 4, revealed by Treyarch on February 15, and many are not pleased with the proposed changes. A major shift in the overall gun meta is predicted, with popular weapons like the Maddox receiving significant nerfs, while other, perhaps underused weapons like the VAPR, will be receiving improvements. For competitive play, the ‘meta’ has remained steady since the game’s launch, with three main weapons – ICR, Maddox and Saug – in use, creating a general balance in gunplay. With the balancing changes, it is expected that this meta will shift drastically, with perhaps all but the ICR going out of fashion, and new weapons like the VAPR, MX-9 and GKS coming into play. Stock 2 will be ungad. Grip will no longer be used and QD will take its spot as the handle. Anyone looking for alternatives will use a mx9 and the vapr will replace the Maddox place. That’s my take on reading the patch but we’ll have to wait and see how everything feels. — Christopher Duarte (@Parasite) February 16, 2019 But it’s not just contents of the update which have caused concern, but also the timing. With Division A of the Pro League just concluding its first split, Division B is up next, and the update will land right in the middle of matches. Pro teams in Division B will have no time to practice or adjust to the changes, meaning they will have to simply adapt on the fly. Meanwhile, Division A teams will be free to practice with the new update well in advance of CWL Fort Worth. Wouldn’t be cod competitive without a meta change mid event/league — 100T SlasheR (@SlasheR_AL) February 16, 2019 Get to play our first match on the patch we’ve played on for two months then our second match on a brand new one :)))))))))))))))) — eU Clayster (@Clayster) February 16, 2019 These might be the worst nerfs/ buffs I’ve ever seen — NV Justin Fargo uwu (@silly702) February 16, 2019 CWL’s own Xav de Matos has stated that the the first week of Division B matches will not use the new update, instead only applying it for week 2 onwards. Our goal, per the r/CODComp Reddit thread, is to hold off using the patch for the first week. — Xav de Matos :flag-ca: (@Xav) February 16, 2019 Only time will tell if the weapon balancing changes improve the overall competitive gameplay, and perhaps it will promote more weapons being viable. The patch is geared more towards the large casual player base than the competitive scene, with the Maddox particularly being one weapon which casual players have voiced concern over.

Call of Duty pro players hit out at CWL Pro League analysts for being “disrespectful and biased” – Dexerto
Call of Duty pro players hit out at CWL Pro League analysts for being “disrespectful and biased” Controversy rang in the competitive Call of Duty community on February 27 as some pro players made strong comments against the analysts of the CWL Pro League. Pro player Rhys ‘Rated’ Price, part of the Division A squad that formerly represented Red Reserve, was very critical of the Pro League analysts panel, accusing them of being disrespectful and having bias. Rated’s claims came against a panel that primarily features four analysts, three of whom are former established pro players themselves – Jeremy ‘StuDyy’ Astacio, Jonathan ‘Pacman’ Tucker, and Anthony ‘NAMELESS’ Wheeler. The example he brought up to justify his comments was the apparent disparity in the panel’s analysis of Evil Geniuses and Denial Esports, despite the fact that both teams sit at the bottom of their respective Divisions. He claims that the panel was overly critical of Denial when they were 0-5, calling for a massive roster overhaul, when they were not nearly as harsh in their judgement of Evil Geniuses when they themselves were 0-6. Desk is making me salty, EG we literally 0-6 whilst being expected to be T4 in the division & only thing was said was there sub should be brought in, Denial are 0-5 whilst being expected to be towards the bottom but need to get rid of the whole roster, complete bias & disrespect. — Rhys Price (@Rated_COD) February 27, 2019 Upon seeing the tweets, several others involved with the pro scene chimed in, and almost all of them were very much in agreement with Rated’s assessment of the analysts. “I could go on literal three hour rant about this desk,” tweeted Gen.G coach Joey Nubzy. “I feel genuinely awful for the amount of disrespect being shown. Not their place to speak on internal things they have no knowledge of.” Former pro player Reedy was a bit more unfiltered with his choice of words: “The desk is legit such a toxic place, all trying trying to be people they’re not. It’s actually so jokes.” The desk is legit such a toxic place all trying to be people their not it’s actually so jokes. — Reedy (@Reedy_1905) February 27, 2019 The tweets did not stop there, as more and more reactions started pouring in the comments section of Rated’s original post. If I could speak fluent English these lot would be done out here. — Dylan Daly (@MadCat) February 27, 2019 Wanted to tweet the same thing yesterday. I can’t tell if it’s unprofessional or if I’m out of touch but listening to “yeah they need to drop this whole roster” by the whole desk AND casters.. — Mitchell Mader (@MF_BuZZO) February 27, 2019 not on broadcast you didn’t, all was said was “they need to sub GodRx In”, maybe two changes not anywhere near the amount of dirt that’s put on Denials name & both teams are completely different in expectations. — Rhys Price (@Rated_COD) February 27, 2019 I’ve already said, pay me half of what they’re paying the people on the desk I’ll play & analyse at the same time. — Rhys Price (@Rated_COD) February 27, 2019 Of course, this is not the first time that players have had public spats with the CWL broadcast teams; there have been numerous verbal altercations between both sides in the past, some of which have gotten quite heated and personal. However, at least at the time of this article’s writing, no one from the analyst panel has yet to comment or respond to Rated’s tweets.

Call of Duty pro player hotel caught in active shooter situation – Dexerto
Call of Duty pro player hotel caught in active shooter situation Call of Duty League/Unsplash: Muzammil SoormaA Miami hotel some of the Call of Duty pros competing at CDL Major 2 were staying in was raided by police during an active shooter threat nearby. CDL Major 2 is one of the biggest events of the year on the competitive Call of Duty calendar, and two players set to compete had their morning thrown into chaos as gunshots rung out. Players Accuracy and Lynz claim the gunshots were from the room directly next to them, and that they were woken up by the noise. “Just woke up to the cops raiding the hotel room next door and at least 30 shots fired,” claimed Accuracy, followed by him and Lynz being brought out of their room by armed police officers minutes later according to Accuracy: “Just got taken out of the room with m16s everywhere and pulled to the lobby in my boxers this is insane,” he claimed. The commotion caused a massive traffic jam outside as police swarmed the hotel to defuse the situation. These two pros are still set to play their stage games for the Minnesota Rokkr on Friday, March 22. The Call of Duty League has yet to comment officially on the incident, but it seems that all competitors are safe at this time.

Alongside a chance for players and teams to practice and rest ahead of Fort Worth, the break also brought an opportunity for CWL Pro League teams to make some changes. The transfer window has now shut for CWL Pro League teams, meaning we have seen the end of teams trying to improve their rosters, although there are still a few teams yet to confirm their final line-ups. While some teams have used their substitute position as a way to bring in a fresh face or address issues in their squad, this is the first time since prior to the Pro League Qualifier that teams were able to make wholesale changes to their rosters. The roster movement period ended last night, Friday, March 8 at 6PM EST / 3PM PST / 11PM GMT. Call of Duty Pro League Qualifier Rostermania Transfer Hub *UPDATING* – Dexerto
Call of Duty Pro League Qualifier Rostermania Transfer Hub *UPDATING* Call of Duty’s Black Ops 4 esports season kicked off with a bang at CWL Las Vegas, with OpTic Gaming returning to the pinnacle of the competitive scene with their impressive victory at the tournament. While teams were battling for their share of the $250,000 prize pool, they were also going head-to-head in an attempt to earn their spot in the 2019 CWL Pro League that will kick off in February. OpTic Gaming, eUnited, Splyce and Luminosity have already secured their place in the Pro League, as finishing in the top 4 of CWL Las Vegas meant you automatically qualified. However, 12 spots remain open open in the competition, with the 28 teams who finished in the top 32 places in Las Vegas set to take part in the Pro League Qualifier on January 16. With that in mind, teams are already beginning to make roster changes ahead of the Pro League Qualifier, as they hope to secure their spot in the league. Call of Duty Pro Joshh Announces He Is Taking a Break from Social Media Following Loss to His Former Teammates – Dexerto
Call of Duty Pro Joshh Announces He Is Taking a Break from Social Media Following Loss to His Former Teammates The latest addition to Splyce’s professional Call of Duty roster, Joshua-Lee ‘Joshh’ Sheppard, has decided to take a break from social media following recent results in the CWL Pro League. Joshh was replaced on Red Reserve prior to the start of Season 2 for the CWL Pro League as the European team brought Matthew ‘Skrapz’ Marshall on board from UNILAD. He soon found a new home on Splyce, the only other European team to challenge for an event win so far during the Call of Duty: WWII season, who had recently dropped veteran player Thomas ‘Tommey’ Trewren. Splyce’s decision to remove Tommey from the roster confused a lot of people at the time and some fans of the team questioned whether Joshh would be able to bring the same fire power to the team when he joined. Read More: OpTic Gaming Reacts to the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Multiplayer and Battle Royale Reveal – Unfortunately for Splyce, their first few matches in the CWL Pro League have not gone to plan as they’ve picked up just one 3-2 victory over Evil Geniuses and lost 3-1 to Team Kaliber, 3-2 to Echo Fox, and 3-0 to Red Reserve. As the newest member of the team, Joshh has felt the brunt of much of the criticism levelled at Splyce for the results and following the loss to his former teammates he announced that he would be taking some time away from social media. GGs RedReserve, we ended 1-3 this week. I’m disappearing from social media for a few days, my mentions are aids and 99% of you know fuckall including people who you would think have some sort of idea. — Joshua-Lee Sheppard (@BsportJoshh) May 17, 2018 It isn’t hard to imagine the sort of comments that Joshh was reading on his timeline following the Red Reserve loss and he’s clearly exasperated with the often uneducated comments. It isn’t just fans that seem to be getting on his nerves, though, as he notes that some of the comments are coming from people “who you would think have some sort of idea”. Splyce and Joshh will be looking to turn things around in the second week of Division A action. Their next match will be against Team Envy on May 22nd.

Call of Duty pro Faccento announces retirement, reveals future career plans – Dexerto
Call of Duty pro Faccento announces retirement, reveals future career plans Longtime professional Call of Duty player Brice ‘Faccento’ Faccento has announced his retirement from competing, as well revealing what the future has in store for him. On March 5, Faccento posted an emotional retirement message on Twitter, confirming many fans’ suspicions that he was indeed putting down the sticks for good. “I’ve officially retired from being a professional Call of Duty player,” he wrote. “I will never forget the friendships and memories that came along with it.” However, this does not mean that Faccento will be leaving the world of esports anytime soon, as the veteran player gave some insight as to his plans for the future. “With that being said, I’m extremely excited to step outside of my comfort zone and pursue other opportunities in the esports industry!” I’ve officially retired from being a professional Call of Duty player. I will never forget the friendships and memories that came along with it. With that being said, I’m extremely excited to step outside of my comfort zone and pursue other opportunities in the esports industry! — Brice (@BriceFaccento) March 6, 2019 Faccento’s retirement puts and end to a playing career that spanned over seven years and included 11 teams. His first and only major tournament victory came at the CWL Las Vegas Open event in 2017, when was a member of Rise Nation. He last applied his trade for Evil Geniuses, with whom he qualified for the CWL Pro League, but their 1-6 start in Division A had many believing that a roster change was due to take place sooner rather than later. Now that Faccento has confirmed his retirement, EG will need to find a replacement quick for the upcoming CWL Fort Worth tournament that’s set for March 15-17. Some of the responses can be seen below, including tweets from Crowder, Parasite, NAMELESS, and others. You can check out all of them by simply clicking on Faccento’s tweet above. Call of Duty pro demonstrates Black Ops 4 bug that removes Perks mid-match – Dexerto
Call of Duty pro demonstrates Black Ops 4 bug that removes Perks mid-match TreyarchAnother bug in Black Ops 4 has been affecting players this time by removing Perks from players seemingly at random. Treyarch released their ambitious sequel in the Call of Duty franchise with Black Ops 4 on October 2018, and although the title has received tremendous praise from critics, players have been experiencing a constant flood of bugs since launch. On Twitter, Twitch streamer Michael “MajorManiak” Szymaniak voiced his frustrations toward Black Ops when his Perks started disappearing during a game of Control. look at my perks just randomly disappearing:shocked: this needs to be fixed before the PLQ https://t.co/Nu2WVduhQ6 — mike (@MajorManiak) January 4, 2019 In the video, MajorManiak can be seen making his way to the control point on Gridlock when his Perks on the bottom left starts to flicker in and out of view. The video had caught the attention of other members of the pro scene and confirmed that the problem was happening in other instances. “Mine never shows perks, its done it since like the 2nd week of the game. It’s on in the settings too. It used to never show current time left on [the] hill either but it started showing that again recently,” said Team Envy Coach Embry “Bevils” Bevil. The bug led MajorManiak to vent some of the other issues that have been plaguing the game, including the absence of League Play, trophies falling under the map, and more. Treyarch could look to fix bugs like these before the Pro League Qualifiers get underway on January 16.

Call of Duty pro Clayster explains why he’s going to stop streaming Black Ops 4 scrims – Dexerto
Call of Duty pro Clayster explains why he’s going to stop streaming Black Ops 4 scrims Call of Duty pro player James ‘Clayster’ Eubanks has announced that he may give up live-streaming team scrimmages for the rest of the Black Ops 4 season. The eUnited star tweeted out on January 16 that he doesn’t feel comfortable streaming when a large majority of his viewers are seemingly just trying to make him look bad. “Looks like no more streams for me, see y’all next year,” he tweeted. “Not banned or anything, y’all just ruin everything by being weird, no point in me streaming for entertainment when 90% of people just look for clips to be dicks.” While some perceived this as him giving up on streaming entirely, Clayster later clarified that his comments were about streaming scrims and not casual gameplay. “I’m just not going to stream scrims for a bit,” he wrote. “Blackout wagers are still ‘litty’ though.” Not banned or anything y’all just ruin everything by being weird, no point in me streaming for entertainment when 90% of people just look for clips to be dicks. — eU Clayster (@Clayster) January 16, 2019 While this may seem out of the blue to some, it does come after a controversial incident involving Clayster and some of his viewers that took place on January 15. While streaming a scrim against OpTic Gaming, Clayster noticed that a lot of fans of the Green Wall were in his chat trying to troll him and his viewers. Clearly bothered by what was going on, he began shouting vulgarities at those viewers, but later apologized when he realized he may have let the trolls get a little too under his skin. Apologies for the choice of words earlier, tempers flared and the thousand+ people that flooded my channel talking shit pissed me off. — eU Clayster (@Clayster) January 16, 2019 Despite the apology, it seems that it’s not totally water under the bridge for Clayster when it comes to streaming scrims, and those who may want to watch is POV during practice matches against high profile opposition may be out of luck. Fans of Clayster and his streams will at least be relieved knowing he isn’t completely quitting streaming and will have to suffice with wagers on Blackout. I’m just not gonna stream scrims for a bit. Blackout Wagers are still litty tho — eU Clayster (@Clayster) January 16, 2019

Censor Explains Why He Chose Pro Call of Duty Over Girlfriend Yanet Garcia – Dexerto
Censor Explains Why He Chose Pro Call of Duty Over Girlfriend Yanet Garcia Douglas ‘FaZe Censor’ Martin has announced that his relationship with girlfriend Yanet is over. The relationship has ended in part so Censor can focus on competing in Call of Duty, especially the upcoming CoD Champs and then the Black Ops 4 season. Censor starts off the video with some background information, including how the couple has been living apart due to their job situations in different countries. He then details why the pair split. There’s only 24 hours in a day and I just didn’t have enough time to do everything that I needed to do… At this moment in my life, I don’t have time for a girlfriend. I have to focus on myself, what I’m doing as a career. Censor’s current career is as a professional Call of Duty player and content creator. It was not known what Censor would do following the WW2 competitive season, considering he came out of retirement to play, however he seemed to confirm he is returning for Black Ops 4. I’m so focused on Call of Duty, I can’t give her the attention that she wants and I just know that this is how it’s going to be for at least another year. She’s going to be doing that job over there, I’m going to be playing Black Ops 4 full time. He left no doubts about his intentions further along in the video. I just know for a fact I’m playing Black Ops 4. I’m going to be locked in for Call of Duty. It has been a wild year for Censor as he almost single-handedly brought storylines back to competitive Call of Duty. He was involved in a pro points scandal that caused him to narrowly miss out on Stage 1 of the CWL Pro League after a disappointing result at CWL New Orleans. After the disappointment, Censor stated his goals were to make Stage 2 of the Pro League and then win the Call of Duty World Championship. He joined a compLexity squad headed for Stage 2 to accomplish the first part of his mission. Censor, now with more time to focus, will be competing next in the Call of Duty World Championship in Columbus, Ohio on August 15 to 19. You can watch the full video on his breakup below:

Call of Duty pro Attach featured on CNN after calling the President a “troll” – Dexerto
Call of Duty pro Attach featured on CNN after calling the President a “troll” Donald Trump – TwitterProfessional Call of Duty player Dillon ‘Attach‘ Price was featured on a national news show on CNN, but not for the reasons you’d expect. While talk of politics is not commonly found in the world of professional gaming and esports, there are those that will crack a joke here and there about governmental leaders, especially the President of the United States. Case in point – Attach, a world champion CoD pro who called the President “the most successful troll of all time” in a tweet on June 22. His tweet came in response to one that the President had put out, which included an animated cover of Time Magazine suggesting that his policies and ideology could far outlive his Presidency. While Attach may not have thought much about his tweet, since he’s hardly the first to say such a thing about the current President, the post ended up being featured on CNN, one of the biggest news outlets in the US and around the world. The tweet put out by the President, and other comments he had made relating to the subject, were being discussed on a political commentary show when suddenly Attach’s tweet was flashed across the screen, and was even read out-loud by the host. The moment was captured by the CoD pro and posted on his Instagram account, along with the caption “Welp, I was on CNN yesterday lol” Attach and Evil Geniuses walking CWL Pro League tightrope While getting a tweet featured on CNN might be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Attach, his current situation in the CWL Pro League is far from ideal. He and his Evil Geniuses squad are currently 8-13 in Division A, and are mathematically eliminated from finish in the top-four, meaning that they cannot clinch an automatic entry into the $1.25 million Playoffs at CWL Finals. However, EG will still have a chance of making it into the postseason, as the bottom-four teams from both divisions will compete against each other in a Play-In tournament, from which two squads will qualify for Playoffs.

Call of Duty pro Arcitys brings tears to young streamer’s eyes after heartwarming raid – Dexerto
Call of Duty pro Arcitys brings tears to young streamer’s eyes after heartwarming raid LA GuerrillasVeteran Call of Duty pro Alec ‘Arcitys’ Sanderson sent his Twitch viewers over to a young streamer’s channel and left them teary-eyed in the process as new followers began to pile up. As a young CoD player, ‘fazeproboy10’ couldn’t have imagined what he was in store for when loading into a game of S&D in Modern Warfare 2 on May 2. Lucky enough to be paired up with LA Guerrillas star Arcitys, the young gun had no idea he was matched with a CDL pro. Getting into the mix early on, the two struck up a casual conversation. Looking to share the love around, Arcitys wanted to send his Twitch viewers over the kid’s stream in order to boost his following. While the gaming prodigy wasn’t live at the time, he was still inundated with notifications as Arcitys and his legion of fans swarmed the channel and followed along, leaving his younger teammate absolutely shocked. “Are you streaming right now?” Arcitys asked as the first round progressed. “Stream right now,” he said. “I promise you you’ll get followers right now, just turn it on bro.” Sharing his account name with the pro, the younger player couldn’t believe what followed as dozens of new viewers came his way. “Oh my god, no way. My heart is going…” the young CoD player said, clearly overwhelmed in the best way possible. “Oh my god, thank you so much! No way. I love you all. Bro, there’s no way.” With FaZe in his account name, Arcitys explained how he was once part of the iconic esports organization. “I used to be on FaZe,” he said, to which the kid hilariously responded, “You’re lying. “You’re the best. I’m actually crying. Thank you all,” he said on repeat, grateful as his Twitch account continued to soar, despite his stream not even being live in the moment. At the time of writing, his ‘fazeproboy10’ Twitch channel now boasts 267 followers. For all we know, those early followers could be among the first to catch on with the next CoD legend. We’ll just have to see if the up-and-coming phenom makes his dreams come true by landing a spot on the Atlanta FaZe roster one day down the line.

Call of Duty Power Rankings after CDL Atlanta – Dexerto
Call of Duty Power Rankings after CDL Atlanta The Call of Duty League is well underway and the second home series of the season has been and gone, with Atlanta FaZe beating Florida Mutineers at their home event to claim the tournament victory. With three events now out of the way, every team has played at CDL Launch Weekend and at least one home series tournament, meaning we’re beginning to get a better idea of the capabilities of each squad. With these events now in the books, we take a look at the Call of Duty League power rankings after CDL Atlanta. 12. OpTic Gaming Los Angeles (-) OpTic Gaming are struggling more now than at any time in the organization’s history, following another disappointing performance at CDL Atlanta. They won only one map in Atlanta, the opening hardpoint against eventual runners-up Florida Mutineers. Although it looked like they may finally be finding the form we expect of them, we were quickly proved wrong as they were dismantled for the rest of the event and sent back to LA to think about how they can move forward. 11. Toronto Ultra (-) Toronto’s 10-man roster was expected to be a huge benefit at the start of the season, with a depth no other franchise can possibly match. Instead, despite some glints of good competitive play, they simply aren’t getting the results. A close 3-2 loss to Chicago Huntsmen and a 3-1 loss to Paris Legion shows that they’re capable of coming good – but until they start getting some more wins under their belt, they’re going to struggle moving up the rankings. 10. Los Angeles Guerrillas (-) The Guerrillas missed out on CDL Atlanta, but still stay ahead of their Los Angeles rivals after they failed to get a result at FaZe’s Home Series. The Aches-led team has struggled to find form in the opening weeks of the league, with just one match win out of a possible four, but will be expecting to pick up some more solid results over the next few weeks – especially at their own Home Series event. 9. Seattle Surge (-) Seattle Surge weren’t in attendance in Atlanta, giving them some more time to practice with Casey ‘Pandur’ Romano who is rumored to have replaced Ian ‘Enable’ Wyatt on the starting roster. However, their performances had been lackluster at CDL Launch Weekend and London, which is what prompted the change in the first place. A team of proven winners, Seattle will be desperate to demonstrate that they’re much better than the other teams on the lower end of the table and return to championship form. 8. New York Subliners (-1) Another team not in attendance in Atlanta, the Subliners have been given some extra time to figure out their shortcomings and find out why they’re unable to consistently win matches. After a decent showing in London, New York may have been disappointed to not be able to build momentum in Atlanta, and as such have had to move down the power rankings slightly. We’ll establish over the next couple of events whether they’re really good enough to push into the upper half of CDL teams. 7. London Royal Ravens (-1) After a top 4 placement at their Home Series and only facing a tight 3-2 loss to Dallas Empire, London could have shown they’re a team capable of fighting for championships, but a disappointing 5-6th place in Atlanta sees London fail to move upwards. A 3-1 win over Florida starting out looking promising, but their subsequent losses to Atlanta and Florida meant London didn’t even make it to the championship bracket, setting them back a few steps in the process. 6. Paris Legion (-2) Paris are still one of the standout performers of this season so far – with expectations so low preseason, they have turned the head of every CoD esports fan with consistency in getting wins and putting up a challenge against some of the top teams in the league. Placing 5-6th in Atlanta, Paris lost to Minnesota twice to be knocked out, with an aggregate scoreline of 3-6 against the side across their two series. Their only win of the weekend came against Toronto Ultra which, based on results over the last few weeks, isn’t a lot to brag about. 5. Minnesota RØKKR (-) Having not attended the London Home Series, it wasn’t clear how Minnesota had developed since Launch Weekend in Minneapolis – but they still appear to be a top team, and were incredibly close to making the grand final of CDL Atlanta if not for slipping up and being reverse swept by the home side. We were very close to having a Florida Mutineers vs. Minnesota Røkkr grand final which, at the very least, would have made for some serious conversations being had around power rankings. That said, Røkkr were reverse swept and finished top 4 – behind only the other teams ahead of them in our rankings. 4. Florida Mutineers (+4) Florida has been considered a dark horse team since the inception of the League – and they proved why with an incredible outing at CDL Atlanta, which saw them lose only to the home team themselves. On their grand final run, they even took down Chicago Huntsmen in a reverse sweep, with Preston ‘Prestinni’ Sanderson handing his brother Alec ‘Arcitys’ Sanderson his first LAN loss since a Pro League match in July 2019. They kept it close with Atlanta in the grand final but were unable to overcome the home team so, while they have seen a huge upward shift in these rankings, they really could have cemented their status as a top team with a win in Atlanta. 3. Dallas Empire (-) Dallas still has a team that look like they should be improving, with the likes of Indervir ‘iLLeY’ Dhaliwal and Anthony ‘Shottzy’ Cuevas-Castro expected to come into their own and figure things out as the season progresses. They made it to the grand final of CDL London but did not attend CDL Atlanta so, if they don’t get another good result at the next event, we may see them slipping down the pecking order. That said, the team still looks to be top-tier, but just aren’t quite reaching the heights Chicago and Atlanta are. 2. Chicago Huntsmen (-1) After winning CDL London, every single CoD esports fan was anticipating and excited for Chicago to face off against Atlanta at the latter’s Home Series, with the two expected to meet in the grand final of the tournament. To many, this would solidify who was number one right now – but Chicago didn’t even make it far enough to fight for their number one spot. They ended up losing to the Florida Mutineers in the semi-final in a 3-2 scoreline, barely missing out on the opportunity to claim a second consecutive championship. For now, they miss out on the top spot – and the next event the two are both scheduled to compete in is Chicago’s Home Series April 4-5. Maybe, by then, both teams will be set to prove why they’re the best in the world. 1. Atlanta FaZe (+1) After the win at their home series event, there can be no doubt that Atlanta is the best team in the game. With an MVP performance from Jovel ‘Cellium’ McArthur – who managed to complete the seemingly-impossible task of outshining the likes of Tyler ‘Abezy’ Pharris, Chris ‘Simp’ Lehr and Preston ‘Priestahh’ Griener – Atlanta got the home crowd roaring with the win everyone saw coming. Proving that they’re better than Chicago, who got knocked out in the semi-final of the tournament, Atlanta will now be looking to show that their number one spot is not up for grabs. With two Home Series events now out of the way, teams look forward to the Los Angeles event over the weekend of March 7-8. It will be the first tournament thus far without Chicago Huntsmen, who will be watching on hoping to find holes in Atlanta’s play that they can take advantage of and move up the power rankings. Meanwhile, Dallas will be looking to prove that they’re still a top team, while Florida will be hoping to prove that they weren’t simply a one-hit-wonder and really can compete with the best.

Call of Duty Post Another Cryptic Black Ops 4 Teaser and This One is Much More Obvious – Pistol, Sniper and Molotov – Dexerto
Call of Duty Post Another Cryptic Black Ops 4 Teaser and This One is Much More Obvious – Pistol, Sniper and Molotov Call of Duty have released two more teasers for the upcoming Black Ops 4 instalment, and these ones are much clearer than the last. The official Call of Duty Twitter account earlier on May 13th tweeted out a short GIF image, in which the outline of a weapon barrel was barely visible – not much of a teaser for a game fundamentally about shooting guns. However, Call of Duty then later posted two more teasers, very similar, but showing different GIFs, to their German and UK Facebook pages. The German one is not that clear, in fact it is probably more difficult to make out than the first Twitter GIF. However, the GIF posted to the official Call of Duty United Kingdom Facebook page is perhaps the best look we have had yet at footage from Black Ops 4. There is what looks like a hand gun and sniper rifle of some kind being loaded and the barrel drawn, and then very obviously there is a molotov being lit. Here is a closer look at each of the frames in the GIF, where you can quite clearly make out items. The inclusion of a molotov cocktail is perhaps our first indication at the time zone of the game, as of course it is a fairly rudimentary weapon, popularized in Europe in the mid 20th century. With a futuristic game it would be expected more advanced lethal throwables would be used, although it is possible that the game is set in a dystopian future, where technology has actually declined. You can watch the other teaser from the German Facebook page below, although it is more difficult to clearly make out anything in this one. The hint at a possible historical time period will excite some fans, but at this point anything is possible. Fans will get their first full glimpse of the game on May 17th at the community reveal event, streamed at 10am PDT on Call of Duty’s Twitch channel.

Call of Duty poll reveals which classic Black Ops maps players want next in Cold War – Dexerto
Call of Duty poll reveals which classic Black Ops maps players want next in Cold War ActivisionIn a brand new Dexerto poll, fans revealed which multiplayer maps from various past Black Ops games that they’d want to see remastered in Black Ops Cold War during the game’s upcoming DLC releases. With Black Ops Cold War’s post-launch content release just starting up, there’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that players will be getting some remasters of classic Black Ops maps at some point in the future, such as how Raid and Nuketown were brought back. While the community doesn’t have any direct influence in deciding which maps will get remastered, a new poll conducted by Dexerto has revealed what remasters they may want to see from future DLC drops. Which iconic Black Ops map would you like to see next in #BlackOpsColdWar? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/xwTjo33A7b — Dexerto Esports (@DexertoEsports) December 22, 2020 Coming in first place with nearly 44.6% of the vote is the Black Ops 2 map Standoff. The map was already remade once in Black Ops 3 and while it has enjoyed appearances in BO4’s Blackout mode and CoD: Mobile, it’s not been remastered a ton and is certainly still a fan favorite. In second place was another Black Ops 2 map, Hijacked. Like Standoff, this small map was also remade in Black Ops 3 and appeared in Blackout and CoD: Mobile as well. The gap between both Black Ops 2 maps in the poll is significant, with a separation of over 10%. Let us know! (If you have any other choices, comment below) — DEXERTO Call of Duty (@DexertoIntel) December 22, 2020 Third and fourth place are the Black Ops 1 maps Firing Range and Summit, respectively. The gap between these two and the first pair is staggering, with only 15% of voters wanting the former and only 8% wanting the latter. This shouldn’t be all too surprising either, as both have been remastered multiple times, making appearances in literally every single Black Ops game in one way, shape, or form. Beyond the four available in the poll, one map that also appeared a few times in the comments was Radiation from Black Ops 1. This map is unique for the fact that it hasn’t been remastered at all since it’s original release, meaning it’s been 10 years since players have stepped foot in there. At the end of the day, who knows what maps will be coming back for Black Ops Cold War. While it would be nice for more obscure maps like Radiation to make an appearance, at the end of the day, it seems like Treyarch wants to stick to popular maps for the time being.

The currency is currently only available on PS4, and will go live on Xbox One and PC on Wednesday, November 7, as part of the seven-day exclusivity agreement Sony has with Activision. Currently, CoD Points can be used in two ways in Black Ops 4’s Black Market – to purchase Special Orders or buying tiers of ongoing in-game events, such as Operation: First Strike. Read More: Black Ops 4 game settings update for October 31 – Black Market updates and PC improvements – As of now, there are currently two Special Orders available in the Black Market – Bombero (800 CP) and Covert (500 CP) – which include a series of cosmetic items such as outfit skins and weapon camos. These Special Orders are only in the Black Market temporarily, and will be replaced by new ones once the time above them expires. In addition, players can also use their CoD Points to purchase tiers in the Operation: First Strike event, in order to unlock the rewards offered in higher tiers sooner rather than unlocking them by playing. Each tier costs 100 CP and all tiers must be purchased in order, which means that if a player wants to purchase a specific tier, they must also buy all of the locked tiers that come before it. Thus, the cost to go from tier 1 to 200 is 20,000 CoD Points. Furthermore, once the max tier of First Strike is unlocked – tier 200 – 25 additional tiers appear, and an additional 25 after that, bringing the total to 250. As of now, it’s not clear if this pattern of 25 tiers appearing after each set continues past 250. Once you reach the highest tier in the Operation First Strike stream — Tier 200 — 25 more tiers unlock called Black Operations and they’re all Reserves. CP can be purchased either in the in-game store or via the PS Store for the prices shown below. Additionally, all CP left over from previous Call of Duty titles will also transfer over to Black Ops 4, and all those who purchased the Black Ops Pass will receive 1000 CP in addition to 300 Nebulium Plasma. Players who also purchased either the Digital Standard Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition, Digital Deluxe Enhanced Edition, Pro Edition, or Mystery Box Edition, will receive their bonus CP in-game, with each edition coming with a different amount.

Call of Duty players want more booty on Donnie Darko skin – Dexerto
Call of Duty players want more booty on Donnie Darko skin Activision / AppleFor Season 6 Halloween, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone players got a new Frank the Rabbit skin from “Donnie Darko.” But there’s a problem with the new outfit: the rabbit is struggling in the tail area. Video games often run into any number of problems, some more game-breaking than others. Warzone’s Halloween Haunting event has been no exception — with a “Spiderman” Doc Ock bug and an “Exorcist” glitch popping up. But the multiplayer side has a different issue. A redditor named ‘Idrinkyourmilkshake’ took to the internet after purchasing the Donnie Darko skin and finding a critical concern: the bunny has no booty. Ultimately, the post was silenced and scrubbed from the site by moderators. But that wasn’t before it hit 700-plus upvotes and most certainly not before we saw the cause for concern. So here we are, upholding Milkshake’s fight for Frank’s gas in the tank. Call of Duty’s Donnie Darko skin criticized for lack of booty Milkshake brought the problem to everyone’s attention with an excellently framed profile shot of Frank the Rabbit. Accompanying the cinematic angle, they asked a simple question: “I’m sorry, but why does Frank have no ass?” If you look at the picture, it’s easy to understand why. While Frank has a hefty torso and thick thighs, the backside is most certainly lacking. One has to wonder if the devs could have considered “Frank the Plank” as an Operator name instead. In the replies, many agreed with Milkshake’s concern. One user called the situation a “tragedy” while others claimed the game was now “unplayable.” Milkshake also doubled down, claiming that the “lack of ass is absolutely criminal and NOT canon.” While Milkshake explicitly called on the developers at Treyarch to ‘fix their game’ in the title, it remains unclear if they saw the message. But, if you immerse yourself in some conspiratorial thinking, there’s reason to wonder who truly is behind the post’s deletion. We won’t dive into speculation about the Donnie Darko derriere conspiracy. Instead, we’ll leave you with what seems to be Reddit’s new mission: “Give Frank a donk.”

Call of Duty players urge Warzone 2 devs to make major weapon change – Dexerto
Call of Duty players urge Warzone 2 devs to make major weapon change Respawn EntertainmentCall of Duty players are calling on the Warzone 2 developers to make a major weapon adjustment for the battle royale sequel, claiming that the current title has got weapon leveling speeds all wrong. The news that Warzone 2 is on the way has been universally welcomed by the player base. With Warzone Pacific doing little to placate an increasing number of bugs and glitches, as well as cheating remaining annoyingly persistent in spite of RICOCHET, fans have been hoping for a clean slate battle royale. That has now been confirmed by Activision, with Warzone 2 believed to be launching sometime in late 2022 and developed by Infinity Ward. It will allegedly be set in Medellin, Colombia, taking inspiration from the setting of the 2022 CoD installment, Modern Warfare II. As a result, players are casting their minds forward to changes they want to see in Warzone 2, including an overhaul to leveling up weapons. While leveling up weapons is a staple of the CoD series and likely won’t be changing anytime soon, plenty of Warzone players believe it currently happens far too slowly. A post from player ‘UnluckyChemist2162’ epitomized players’ issues with the current system, arguing it should be faster for players to level up weapons and unlock the best attachments. “They need to make weapons easier to level in Warzone 2,” they said. “It’s way too hard… Like if guns are not supposed to be that important or crazy why make them so difficult to level up? It really makes things very boring and makes you not want to play the game at all. I mean just look at Apex and Fortnite. No gun leveling required whatsoever. It’s terrific.” The player also commented that they invest hours per week into Warzone but that progress is incredibly slow, especially with Vanguard weapons. Others echoed the comments, suggesting all weapon leveling should be brought into line with Modern Warfare weapons, which rank up considerably faster. Because Infinity Ward are developing Warzone’s sequel, there were hopes that this would indeed be the case. One player said: “The Modern Warfare guns are perfect when it comes to leveling. Infinity Ward should make the Modern Warfare 2 guns’ XP like those guns.” As of the time of writing, details about Warzone 2 are not clear but, with players making their desired changes clearer, we’ll just have to hope Infinity Ward are open to some preemptive feedback.

Call of Duty players hit out at Sledgehammer over Vanguard’s “useless” field upgrades – Dexerto
Call of Duty players hit out at Sledgehammer over Vanguard’s “useless” field upgrades ActivisionCall of Duty: Vanguard players have hit out at the game’s Field Upgrades as “useless”, calling on developers Sledgehammer Games to improve them over the course of the WWII instalment’s life-span. Field Upgrades, while not new in Call of Duty: Vanguard, are still fairly new to the series more generally. They form part of a player’s Create a Class, offering some extra utility on top of weapon and projectile. In Vanguard there are nine to choose from, each offering players something slightly different to augment their loadout in-game. They are: Supply Box, Deployable Cover, Dead Silence, Goliath, Jammer, Dead Drop, Tactical Insertion, Field Mic and Armor Plates. However, despite the array of equipment on offer, some players are unsatisfied. One post, from Redditor ‘Kingtinkerer102‘, hit out at the Field Upgrades in Vanguard and claimed that “most of them are useless”. Running through them, they dismissed the Jammer as garbage, while other ones – like the Field Mic and Tactical Insertion – are useful in theory but too difficult to deploy and keep from being destroyed. They also denounced the Goliath as an even slower version of the series’ RC-XD killstreak, and also questioned why anyone would use Dead Silence in a game where footsteps are so hard to discern by default. Concluding their post, they called (once again) for Trophy Systems to be added. Up to now, Sledgehammer have refused on the basis that they are not ‘historically accurate’, despite the fact there weren’t Attack on Titan characters running around in WWII either. Plenty of players responded to echo the OP’s sentiment, calling on Sledgehammer to improve many of the Field Upgrades so they actually impact gameplay and matches. Others, though, countered to say that certain ones – like the Jammer and Supply Box – do have their uses in-game, and buffing many of them would make them too strong. It’s ultimately up to Sledgehammer, but more players seemed to want them buffed than those encouraging nerfs.

Call of Duty players furious as Black Ops 6 will not have campaign early access – Dexerto
Call of Duty players furious as Black Ops 6 will not have campaign early access ActivisionCall of Duty players have slammed Black Ops 6 for not having an early access campaign to grind out before the multiplayer goes live, questioning why Treyarch would make this decision. In recent years, namely in both Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3, the campaign was made available a few days early to players who preordered the game. This allowed them to test out weapons, complete the story, and get a grasp of what some of the multiplayer maps will look like, with many of them featuring as areas in the campaign. However, it has been revealed in an official statement to CharlieINTEL that there will be no campaign early access in Black Ops 6. Activision said: “The team is fully focused on October 25th. We are excited about all the game has to offer across Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies.” “This year, we made the decision to ensure the community gets to dig in to any and all modes that they want at the same time, so we are back to one massive global launch moment October 25th. As such, there is no Early Access beat this year for Black Ops 6, just the countdown to launch.” This was quickly met with disdain from players who were looking forward to enjoying the campaign before hopping into multiplayer and Zombies. “BRO WHY?!” asked Landon in the replies. “They make a fantastic decision one year, and the next walk back on it. I will never truly understand.” Another commenter, Queen Ti, added: “It was so nice having early access to the campaign so we can focus on level up guns at launch.” Others added that they simply “probably won’t play” the campaign as they will instead focus on multiplayer and Warzone, with the latter following shortly after. While the response was overwhelmingly negative, there were some who were fine with the decision. “We play it all the day it releases. I don’t see an issue here lol,” said one such user. Others said that it was “just like old times,” perhaps hoping that Black Ops 6 will bring back the nostalgia elements of grinding the whole game on launch day. The campaign is far from the most popular part of any Call of Duty game, but there’s no doubt there are a number of players who will be disappointed and potentially even end up playing this year. Last year, Modern Warfare 3 released to largely negative reviews — becoming the worst-reviewed COD of all time — as people got their hands on the campaign early, which could play a part in Activision’s decision.

Call of Duty players frustrated over Warzone & MW2 anti-cheat update: “Just ban them” – Dexerto
Call of Duty players frustrated over Warzone & MW2 anti-cheat update: “Just ban them” ActivisionCall of Duty players across both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone have hit out at Activision over the latest anti-cheat update, begging them to just ban hackers rather than keep adding more issues for them to face. Ever since Call of Duty introduced the RICOCHET anti-cheat, the cheating problem that was present in the opening year of Warzone’s Verdansk and Modern Warfare multiplayer has improved tenfold. That said, some cheaters still get through the cracks, especially as hacking software is updated so regularly to be able to get past the anti-cheat updates. Over recent years, COD has introduced a number of measures to ruin the gameplay experience for suspected cheaters, such as making them unable to do damage to opponents or making enemies invisible to cheaters, decreasing their chances of being able to ruin others’ games. In the latest update, on June 29, they made it so that hackers see “hallucinations,” essentially copies of real players, tricking them into believing an opponent is in front of them when they’re not really. Warzone players just want cheaters banned While some players have heralded all the changes made to troll opponents and ruin their cheats, others are getting annoyed at the devs for not simply just banning cheaters. “This is cool for sure,” said Warzone streamer Fifakill. “But if they know that the person/ account is cheating then why not just ban them outright?” This followed a similar sentiment echoed by many in the replies to tweets about the new anti-cheat measures. While the cheating problem has become much more manageable as Ricochet is updated and new changes implemented, it’s still a huge issue, especially in the higher tiers of both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone ranked, so you can understand why players are getting increasingly frustrated. RICOCHET still implements semi-regular ban waves, the most recent of which saw a professional COD player get banned while competing at Challengers champs.

Call of Duty players divided over Nicki Minaj and Snoop Dogg Operator reveal – Dexerto
Call of Duty players divided over Nicki Minaj and Snoop Dogg Operator reveal ActivisionCall Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is bringing two new Operators into the fray and the choices are unusual. Nicki Minaj and Snoop Dogg are trading mics for assault rifles. Call of Duty’s newest Operators have been announced, and they’re a far cry from the divisive Cat skin. Two rappers have now been added to the considerable roster of recent crossovers, confirming recently covered CoD leaks. Of course, skins aren’t the only thing that has leaked in the CoD space recently. The impending Modern Warfare 3 broke in a manner nobody expected just last week. On to something Activision did mean for us to see. Nicki Minaj and Snoop Dogg operators were revealed on Call of Duty’s Twitter account today, but the hype is lopsided. Nicki is sporting iconic pink hair and a pinker assault rifle and stans showed up in the replies to sound off. “Amazing! Top Tier Excellence. Everything we asked for! Barbz ready to shoot,” one user said. For the uninitiated, Barbz is the preferred collective noun for Nicki Minaj superfans worldwide. FaZe Kalei even outed herself as a part of the collective. “PURRRRR BARBZ RISE UP!!!,” the streamer replied, giving her stamp of approval to Nicki Minaj in Call of Duty. We all know noobs aren’t the only things Snoop will smoke when he comes to CoD but players are not as keen on Tha Dogg Father’s return. Snoop Dogg’s Operator skin was available in Call of Duty Vanguard and fans are frustrated with the repeat. “You want people to pay again for a skin they bought last year?” one user queried. “You should give it back to the people that bought it in Vanguard for free,” opined another. Activision has revealed that Nicki Minaj and Snoop Dogg will each have their own Store Bundle. A recent leak that asserted that Nicki Minaj would come to Call of Duty also mentioned a potential 21 Savage skin. There has been no announcement for that from Activision as yet.

Call of Duty players disappointed with lack of fan-favorite mode in Vanguard reveals – Dexerto
Call of Duty players disappointed with lack of fan-favorite mode in Vanguard reveals ActivisionCall of Duty players are gradually growing more and more excited over the upcoming launch of 2021 title Vanguard but, amid all the anticipation, some players have realized that the game might not feature a fan-favorite mode. Some lucky players have already had the chance to play CoD: Vanguard, with the Alpha version of the game letting PlayStation users get their hands on the new BR/Gunfight-inspired mode Champions Hill. Now, in the lead-up to the full game being released on November 5, and with players awaiting the Beta, more information is becoming readily available for fans. While we don’t know everything about the new game yet, the lack of a mention of one very popular mode has left many quite concerned. War mode in Vanguard? While the 2017 installment World War II was only Sledgehammer’s second contribution to the mainline CoD franchise, it brought back the War game mode. It was completely different to how it was in World at War in 2008, and gave players a very fun change from the standard multiplayer modes. Posting to the Vanguard subreddit, Martian_Zombie50 said that “No War mode in Vanguard is very disappointing,” clearly dismayed at the lack of mentions of War in any teasers. The post received hundreds of comments and upvotes, with many saying that the inclusion of War could be the difference-maker in them buying it, praising the mode and frustrated at the lack of news regarding it. It’s worth noting that, while a return of the War mode hasn’t actually been announced, that doesn’t mean it’s definitely out entirely. It might be that Sledgehammer Games simply didn’t plan on sharing any information on the mode at this point in time. We’ll just have to wait and see but, for now, War could be a huge factor in whether some fans play or even buy Vanguard when it comes out on November 5.

Call of Duty players call for classic “OP” Modern Warfare 2 weapon attachment to return – Dexerto
Call of Duty players call for classic “OP” Modern Warfare 2 weapon attachment to return ActivisionModern Warfare II players have called for a very popular weapon attachment from the original 2009 Modern Warfare 2 to be added to the game, claiming that it would be a great addition to the latest Call of Duty title. Modern Warfare II launched in October 2022, around 13 years after the game of the same name became one of the most iconic FPS titles in the world. It broke Call of Duty sales records and quickly became the most successful launch in franchise history, perhaps with some players dreaming of it emulating the feeling of playing the classic game again. While there aren’t many throwback features to the classic MW2 title, some players want to see one particular weapon attachment come back. While guns like the ACR, UMP 45, and Intervention were supremely popular back in the day, and players would love to see them return, it’s actually something different that they’re calling for now. With almost 2000 upvotes on Reddit and hundreds of comments in agreement, Youngthephoenixx wants something very simple added back into the game: the Tactical Knife attachment. For those who don’t remember, the Tactical Knife was a pistol attachment that allowed you to quickly melee your opponents if you were running around with your pistol out, making those sudden, unexpected gunfights slightly easier. Of course, in the original MW2, you could pair that with the Commando Pro perk and you’d be able to lunge ridiculous distances to take out enemies with your quick melee, so it was incredibly frustrating to come up against, with one player in the above post even calling it “so OP.” With Commando Pro no longer a thing, however, it might be slightly more balanced now and much less of a cause for concern. Whether something like this could get added in, however — especially as melees are now no longer one-hit kills but instead take two — is unclear.

Call of Duty players blast “unacceptable” player support message – Dexerto
Call of Duty players blast “unacceptable” player support message ActivisionA Call of Duty player was informed their “stolen” account was unable to be recovered, however, Activision’s positive response has been slammed as “one of the worst things” they could’ve said. Call of Duty fans have been preparing for the launch of Modern Warfare 3 on November 10, after the MW3 beta proved to be a hit with players. It features all-new gameplay, movement mechanics, Killstreaks, Perks, and Equipment, as well as including every Modern Warfare 2 map from the iconic 2009 game. Players have therefore been keen to attempt to try and regain access to their accounts ready for when MW3 fully releases. One CoD player has had no luck getting his “stolen” account recovered after he shared the “unacceptable” message he received from Activision Player Support. Call of Duty player calls Activision’s response “absurd” They posted Activison’s response to the Call of Duty subreddit, titled: “Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Activision Support!” It was claimed that their account was “stolen” and then “deleted” by another person. A screenshot was shown of their response: “After the Senior Team reviewed your case, they were able to find that the account you say, was deleted on 10/22,” “so unfortunately we will not be able to do anything to recover it. Have a wonderful day!” It then ended, as others slammed their positive “customer service” response. Many deemed the ending sentence inappropriate: “That is probably one of the worst things they could’ve said!” As another added: “Basically, Hi Greg, f*ck you. Have a wonderful day.” Others took the funny side: “I laughed so damn hard at this,” one responded, with another stating: “I’m going to start saying that on voice chat when someone is pissed at me.” Aside from accounts, Call of Duty fans have also been left displeased with the upcoming MW3 PS5 Slim bundle leak.

Call of Duty players already want Black Ops 6 to make major realism change – Dexerto
Call of Duty players already want Black Ops 6 to make major realism change ActivisionCall of Duty players have expressed their frustrations once again with the cosmetics and skin bundles in the newer games, calling for major changes to be made in Black Ops 6. Over the years, Call of Duty cosmetics have evolved exponentially. From grinding for the Fall camo in the original Modern Warfare 2, those who left the franchise would hardly recognize the Gundam skins and Nicki Minaj operators you can find flying around Warzone and MW3 in 2024. This has rubbed some players the wrong way, especially those who want a more realistic mil-sim experience, closer to the COD of old. Now, players are asking for a return to simplicity with Black Ops 6, which launches on October 25. “COD used to have an identity, it was the tacticool [sic] shooter that took itself seriously, even if the fanbase didn’t reflect that,” said one user in a post on the Black Ops 6 subreddit, before elaborating, “Now, it’s a clown show with laser guns because the ‘iT wAs NeVer ReaLisTiC aNyWaY’ ADHD zoomer crowd can’t visually process anything that isn’t bright pink.” Many of the 200+ comments on the Reddit post were widely in agreement, with the top-voted comment simply saying that they wouldn’t mind “if they just took all operators out and had us run around as generic military goons again,” but keep some of the more outlandish weapon skins. In response, one player added that 2017’s Modern Warfare Remastered did this well, while another expanded that Riot Games FPS Valorant has done a better job: “No cosmetics that alter character silhouettes, not even recolors for Agent. They put all the focus into weapon cosmetics, and they honestly have some really dope blueprints. This means you always know what character you’re looking at.” Obviously, Valorant is a different game, as knowing which Agent your opponent is running is vital to tracking the progress of a round, and knowing what to expect from them due to their abilities. While it’s hard to pinpoint exactly how much of it is from Call of Duty bundles, in 2022 Activision Blizzard reported more than $5 billion in revenue from microtransactions and downloadable content, so there’s clearly a desire from players for this kind of content. Given this, it’s unlikely Activision will be removing these types of cosmetics anytime soon.

All players & teams that won a Call of Duty World Championship – Dexerto
All players & teams that won a Call of Duty World Championship Call of Duty LeagueThe 2024 Call of Duty League Championship Weekend is over, and two new players have etched their names in COD’s history books, with two more earning their second ring each. Here’s every player & team that has won Champs. Champs, the end-of-year spectacle that crowns the greatest Call of Duty team in the world, has undergone several different formats and iterations over the years, but one thing has remained the same: every player in the CDL wants to get their hands on that trophy and their championship rings. There have now been 12 crowning world championship events in Call of Duty, dating back to 2013’s Black Ops 2 when Karma, KiLLa, Parasite, and Mirx dominated the competition and became all-time CoD greats. Fast forward to 2024, and while those players have long since retired, a new batch of players are joining the elite club following OpTic Texas’ dominant 5-1 grand finals victory over New York Subliners. All players to win a Call of Duty World Championship 30 competitors have earned a Call of Duty world championship ring, and nine legends have multiple championships to their name. Karma, Crimsix, and Clayster lead all challengers, winning three world championships each. This list of players has already cemented their Call of Duty legacy: Karma (3) – Crimsix (3) – Clayster (3) – ACHES (2) – JKap (2) – Apathy (2) – Simp (2) – aBeZy (2) – Arcitys (2) – Kenny (2) – Shotzzy (2) – KiLLa – MiRx – TeePee – Crowder – John – Scump – FormaL – SiLLY – Prestinni – Huke – iLLeY – Cellium – Octane – Envoy – Drazah – Assault – SlasheR – Attach – Parasite – HyDra – Priestahh – KiSMET – Skyz – Dashy – Pred – All teams to win a Call of Duty World Championship There have been two dynasties in COD history, but no organization has ever won back-to-back World Championships. ACHES, TeePee, Crimsix, alongside Clayster, and eventually Karma, formed the first dynasty in Call of Duty esports under the CompLexity and Evil Geniuses banners. The decorated group won 13 offline tournaments in two years and recorded 16 top-four finishes. And then over a two-year time frame, OpTic Gaming, with the key figures of Scump, FormaL, and Crimsix, alongside Nadeshot (briefly) and Karma, won 18 offline tournaments and placed top four 28 times. Despite going on dominant runs, both dynasties only won one World Championship. Here is a year-by-year recap of every World Championship winner. Who misses out? There are not that many noticeable absences from this list, given the fact that the overwhelming majority of big names have, at some point, won a championship. There are several top players who failed to win CoD Champs, both retired and active. The likes of Nadeshot, ZooMaa, and Gunless are all names that arguably had all the makings of world champions — be it insane individual ability, dominant teams, or even a mix of both. There are also players like Ben ‘Bance’ Bance, Tobias ‘CleanX’ Jønsson, and Ian ‘Enable’ Wyatt who have reached the grand finals of Champs twice each without winning the big one. Dashy was one of the most popular names that would have featured in this section, commonly regarded as one of the straightest shots in COD history, but he finally overcame that hurdle at the 2024 Championships. The question now is who can write their name in the Call of Duty history books in 2025.

Call of Duty Player Reaches Master Prestige in CoD: WWII While Only Using Explosives – Pictures and Video Montage Reaching Master Prestige in Call of Duty: WWII is not easy for any player, let alone for someone who does not use a single weapon in the entire process. A player, who goes by the name of ‘_C4,’ has achieved this rank by remarkably only using explosives, being the first person to do so in the current Call of Duty title. _C4 has posted images of him reaching Master Prestige, as well as a breakdown of the entire statistics of his Combat Record. His best Division was the Expeditionary Force, which makes sense considering that it grants players an extra lethal item and allows munitions to be replenished from killed enemies and over time. Call of Duty player kicked off college esports program over viral trash talk clip – Dexerto
Call of Duty player kicked off college esports program over viral trash talk clip ActivisionAfter intensely trash-talking his opponents, a local Call of Duty player was banned from their collegiate esports program. Competitive gaming ventures are driven on the foundations of passion and determination, and because of this, competitors often engage in trash-talking. Whether that be to get inside their opponent’s head to knock them off their game or to big themselves up, the passion-filled rhetoric has become a staple in competitions of all kinds. And esports is no stranger to this. In fact, a Call of Duty player was ultimately banned from their local esports program due to an intense war of words after a match. Call of Duty player banned from CCL after trash-talking video goes viral In a video posted to Twitter by FiosRay, a CCL player now identified as Twitter user Qpann_ was seen getting into a war of words during a collegiate Call of Duty match. In the first video uploaded on April 24, 2022, Qpann_ can be seen trash-talking his opponents and verbally taunting their “mid” efforts. “Hey, where’s the owner at?” said Qpann as he began his speech. “This is the second time you have sent a team to Florida to lose to me!” Immediately the player follows up his tirade, saying: “You’ve wasted thousands of dollars to lose to me!” His opponents can be seen in the video responding back to him as they heckle things like: “You’re talking crap at a college league!” I’m crying this man’s going rogue!!! pic.twitter.com/McDBv3TsVq — Ray 🇨🇺🇺🇸 (@FiosRay) April 24, 2022 In a second video posted by Twitter user, AGNCuatro captioned “Love CoD,” Qpann_ can be seen again yelling profanities and verbal taunts at his opponents in the esports room as onlookers take out their phones to record the moment. “Get the f**k out of my venue!” the collegiate player screams during another war of words. “You can beat me. Shut your f**king mouth!” Following the video’s viral moment, Qpann_ updated his Twitter followers on April 27, 2022, by letting them know that he was banned from the college esports program. People sounded off in the comment sections of both videos, offering their thoughts, as one person said: “It’s just amazing how heated people get over this game, lmao.” just got banned from my schools esports program and CCL team for talking trash at a local. ggs no more CCL for me — Q (@Qpann_) April 27, 2022 While another person said: “This is why I love CoD; you can feel the passion through the video. Even if it is cringe.” While it is unclear what college this was and whether their esports program will issue a statement of some kind reacting to this viral trash-talking moment, it seems that the player is done with the CCL for the time being.

Call of Duty player finds alien from Mexican hearing in MW2 DMZ – Dexerto
Call of Duty player finds alien from Mexican hearing in MW2 DMZ Twitter: LegoUnlockedThe alien from the Mexican hearing has been found in Modern Warfare 2’s DMZ game mode – and it’s worth a ridiculous amount of money. UFO scientist Jaime Maussan showcased alien corpses to Mexico’s parliament on September 13, claiming that the corpses were over 1,000 years old. When an image of the alleged dried-out alien surfaced, the internet was quick to turn it into the ultimate meme. For example, Ben Cullen, also known as ‘The Bake King,’ took the meme to the next level by turning the alien corpse into a realistic cake. This cake rendition of the actual alien corpses only added fuel to the fire of infinite alien jokes. Now, Call of Duty has gotten in on the alien action with the latest update to MW2. The Halloween-themed update featured new operators, weapon skins, maps, and a little easter egg for those playing DMZ. MW2 DMZ alien is worth $100,000 for those who obtain it A streamer by the name of LegoUnlocked was the first to post the discovery he made on X. The alien, named ‘Ultra Secreto,’ can be found on the DMZ map and takes the form of an all-black, dried-out looking skeleton. To find the alien, one must defeat the UFO in Operation Nightmare. This came to DMZ along with ‘The Haunting’ update added to MW2 before Halloween. After defeating the UFO, players can search for the alien and then pick it up, adding the $100,000 corpse to their inventory. Not much else is known about the alien, as one user said they exfilled immediately after obtaining the alien, only for it to disappear. Others say that an additional reward of a tiara is added alongside the alien, which can be sold for the price listed alongside the item. Outside of being a clever easter egg to go along with the event, not much is known about the dessicated alien or how it relates to The Haunting event. Activision and Infinity Ward have also not made any official announcements regarding the existence of the ‘Ultra Secreto’ alien, either.

Call of Duty player customizes gun with Plague Diamond camo in real life – Dexerto
Call of Duty player customizes gun with Plague Diamond camo in real life ActivisionA dedicated CoD player has recreated the eye-catching Plague Diamond camo from Black Ops Cold War on a real-life airsoft gun and it looks absolutely incredible. Each year, Call of Duty adds more crazy camos to the ever-growing pool of weapons in the game. From having a Diamond camo back in Black Ops 2, to Dark Matter in Black Ops 3 and now many variations of Dark Matter and other highly regarded camos, it’s become a staple of the franchise. In Cold War, one of the most popular camos among players has been Plague Diamond, despite how much of a grind it is. To unlock the camo, you need to get the Golden Viper camo on every weapon in that class, which is unlocked through Zombies. Call of Duty players are always creative, and while some have gone so far as to recreate Warzone snipers from Nerf guns in real life, this recreation of the popular camo has really caught the eyes of fellow players, for different reasons. Posting their creation to Reddit, TheLosersClubYT showed off the camo on their airsoft 1911 pistol. The gun is adorned entirely in purple, including (presumably) makeshift diamonds to really complete the Plague Diamond look. While they received a lot of love for the Plague Diamond look, some commenters admitted that “twitched a time or two” at a pistol dressed up in such a way. Needless to say, one thing nobody can deny is that it’s a great attempt at bringing Call of Duty to a real-life airsoft gun, with a really accurate look. Any chance of a reactive camo next?

Call of Duty: OpTic Gaming suffer their first ever competitive loss of Black Ops 4 season – Dexerto
Call of Duty: OpTic Gaming suffer their first ever competitive loss of Black Ops 4 season In a shocking turn of events, OpTic Gaming’s dominant Call of Duty team has been beaten for the first time since the start of the Black Ops 4 season. OpTic’s first ever loss of the season came at the hands of Team Reciprocity in the Winner’s Bracket Finals of the CMG ProDown tournament on December 17. While the loss itself is certainly a stunning upset, the manner with which they lost is even more shocking, as Reciprocity reverse swept OpTic in a best-of-five series, winning three straight maps after losing the first two. The loss has dropped OpTic Gaming into the Loser’s Bracket of the ProDown for the first time in all of the three weeks that the tournament has been played, the first two of which were dominated wire-to-wire by the Green Wall But OpTic’s play has been so strong thus far this season that they will likely still be deemed favorites by many to win the tournament for the third straight time, even if means that they would have to win two straight matches in the Grand Final. GGs Optic completed the reverse sweep, play the grand finals later tonight. — Sean (@SeanyCod) December 18, 2018 This loss also adds another juicy layer to the storylines of controversy that has developed between OpTic and Team Rec over the past 24 hours. The two teams had attempted to play their Winner’s Bracket Final the night previous, and came close to completing the match, when connection issues sparked arguments between the players, who all ultimately decided to replay the entire series the next day. Coming into the match against Team Reciprocity, OpTic had won a grand total of 38 consecutive competitive matches to start off the Black Ops 4 season, dropping very few maps in the process. Those victores the first two MLG 2,000 Series tournaments of the season (18-0), the first one of which they won with a 27-0 overall map count, the first three ProDown tournaments (12-0), and the recent $250,000 CWL Vegas tournament (8-0), where they went 4-0 in both Pool Play and the Championship Bracket.

Call of Duty: OpTic Gaming on top as four teams remain in CMG ProDown – Dexerto
Call of Duty: OpTic Gaming on top as four teams remain in CMG ProDown Day one of the January 28 – 29 CMG ProDown tournament for Black Ops 4 has come to an end and OpTic Gaming are once again looking like the team to beat heading into the second day. The popular online Call of Duty tournament was as stacked as ever in terms of raw talent, but a number of pickup teams were in action in place of full rosters for some of the bigger organizations. Those thrown together squads weren’t afraid of the big dogs, though. Anthony ‘NAMELESS’ Wheeler’s team proved in the very first round with an upset victory over Luminosity Gaming and Christopher ‘Parasite’ Duarte’s squad managed to push OpTic Gaming to map five. The CWL Las Vegas champs quickly regrouped from their shaky start, demolishing NAMELESS and company 3-0 before outlasting a strong Team Envy in a another five map affair in round three. In the losers bracket, Evil Geniuses bounced back from a first round to UYU an tore through Excelerate Gaming, Team NAMELESS and the CWL Vegas runners up, eUnited, before finally being stopped by Splyce. January 27-28 CMG ProDown official Winners Bracket: Kenny ‘Kenny’ Williams’ team, which included FaZe Clan’s Thomas ‘ZooMaa’ Paparatto and Preston ‘Priestahh’ Greiner, made a similarly impressive run in the losers bracket but eventually fell at the hands of Envy in yet another five map slugfest. Midnight Esports quietly went about business in an efficient manner, disposing of ExG, UYU and Splyce in the upper bracket before losing to OpTic Gaming in the upper final. Dylan ‘Envoy’ Hannon and co. will face the winner of Splyce vs. Envy in the loser’s final. January 27-28 CMG ProDown official Losers Bracket: The winner of that losers final match will play OpTic in the grand final but will need to win two best-of-five matches if they want to take home the title. The $2,500 CMG ProDown competition will resume on January 28. Follow @DexertoINTEL on Twitter to keep you up to date with all the Call of Duty results and news.

Call of Duty: OpTic fall and underdogs prevail as CMG ProDown reaches final stages – Dexerto
Call of Duty: OpTic fall and underdogs prevail as CMG ProDown reaches final stages @Nimble_CODDay one of the first CMG ProDown tournament of 2019 has come to an end, and the four teams advancing to day two might come as a surprise to some. The biggest surprise of the first round came when OpTic Gaming were defeated by G2 Esports. The new look G2 roster, which now features the likes of Anthony ‘Methodz’ Zinni and Andres ‘Lacefield’ Lacefield, blew past the CWL Las Vegas champions in 4-1 fashion. The CWL Vegas runners up, eUnited, were also knocked straight into the losers bracket after losing 4-3 to Jordon ‘General’ General’s Enigma6 squad. Elsewhere, Red Reserve took down 100 Thieves and Evil Geniuses defeated Team Envy. The impressive round one form from G2 continued throughout the night as they went on to beat FaZe Clan and Red Reserve to book their spot in the winners bracket final against Indervir ‘iLLeY’ Dhaliwal’s SZN roster. That match will take place when the competition resumes on January 7. January 6-7 CMG ProDown official Winners Bracket: In the losers bracket, OpTic appeared to be back on track after their initial loss. Seth ‘Scump’ Abner and company took down Pittsburgh Knights and Evil Geniuses with relative ease but their momentum came to a sudden halt when they met Red Reserve in losers round four. After some early struggles in Black Ops 4, Red Reserve have been making noticeable improvements online in recent weeks. These improvements were plain for all to see as the Europeans blew past OpTic in 3-0 fashion to earn a spot in the losers final. January 6-7 CMG ProDown official Losers Bracket: The result will came as a shock to many. OpTic’s dominance online and offline in Black Ops 4 has seen them win every significant competition that they have entered. Their 5th-6th place finish in the January 6 ProDown proves that they aren’t invincible. Red Reserve will face eUnited in the losers bracket final on January 7. James ‘Clayster’ Eubanks and company rallied after their first round loss, defeating Reciprocity, FaZe and Splyce in nail-biting matches that all ended 3-2. They then took down E6 with ease to book their spot in the losers final. The $2,500 competition will resume on January 7. With OpTic Gaming eliminated, the four remaining teams will be keen to prove that they have what it takes to win championships in Black Ops 4. The winner of the G2 vs SZN match will advance to the grand final, while the loser will take on the winner of the Red vs eU game. The losers bracket final will then determine the second team for the grand final.

Call of Duty Online being shut down in push for CoD Mobile – Dexerto
Call of Duty Online being shut down in push for CoD Mobile TencentCall of Duty Online will be shutting down in China by the end of August 2021, following declining interest in the game and an upsurge in CoD: Mobile users. Call of Duty Online was brought to China in 2015, a free-to-play PC game that introduced the market to Call of Duty after its beta launched in 2012. The franchise historically struggled in China due to the cost and the region’s distribution laws, but offering a F2P version of the game that brought together the very best of the franchise saw decent success. Now, after six years, that is set to come to an end, with an official statement made by Tencent on May 31 confirming the news. In their official statement, it is confirmed that game registration will be closed from Tuesday, June 1, 2021 before the game’s servers officially close in August. To make up for the loss of the title, they are offering players a ‘compensation activity’ in CoD: Mobile, pushing players to the game. CoD: Mobile is similar to CoD Online, with regular updates adding in the most popular weapons, maps, modes and more in Call of Duty. Read More: Everything in CoD Mobile Season 4 update – With the rise of mobile gaming — particularly in Asian territories such as China — this move could prove hugely influential on the future of the game, including a big influx of players throughout the Summer months. This also means that there will no longer be a free-to-play Call of Duty multiplayer game on PC in China, though Warzone is still available in the region for those wanting a battle royale experience.

New Workshop creation brings Call of Duty’s One in the Chamber to Overwatch – Dexerto
New Workshop creation brings Call of Duty’s One in the Chamber to Overwatch Blizzard Entertainment/TreyarchOne creative Overwatch fan has recreated Black Ops One in the Chamber mode in the Workshop with all the same features as the Call of Duty mode. One in the Chamber started out as a wager match in Black Ops and has been featured in multiple Call of Duty games since, including Black Ops 4 as a limited time mode in February 2019. Overwatch’s Workshop mode was released seemingly out of nowhere on April 24 and players have been putting out an endless stream of original games and content ever since. One in the Chamber: McCree style Video of Overwatch’s One in the Chamber mode was posted to Reddit by user iejb and it seems to be an almost carbon-copy of the Call of Duty version. Each player plays as McCree, for obvious reasons, and like in Call of Duty they only have one bullet that kills instantly, but it reloads with every kill they get. To discourage camping and make it even more similar to the Call of Duty version, players positions are revealed once there are only two left. They even included a counter in the upper left that shows ammunition and what round the game is currently in. For players interested in trying out Overwatch’s One in the Chamber the code is: ZKQVGV. Workshop: the best thing to happen to Overwatch? Since it was released the new Workshop mode has proven to be a hit with players and a lot of people are saying it’s one of the best things to ever be added to the game. Players have already made third-person Overwatch, multiple D.Va mini-games and given Widowmaker tech from Rainbow 6 Siege, just to name a few. The Workshop is technically still on the PTR, so it’s not available to console players just yet, but with the Anniversary event coming up, potentially in late May, we could see an update that brings it to the main game and all platforms. Jeff Kaplan talked about the Anniversary event after the release of Storm Rising and even promised a new D.Va skin that will, according to him, “break the internet.”

Call of Duty Off-Season Rostermania Transfer Hub *UPDATING* With Black Ops 4 on the horizon, competitive Call of Duty teams are weighing up their options going into the new game with a 5 v 5 format, and with new organizations entering the fold, a busy rostermania period is expected. Call of Duty no longer working with Ghost voice actor after sexism allegations – Dexerto
Call of Duty no longer working with Ghost voice actor after sexism allegations Activision / Twitter: Jeff LeachActivision has cut ties with the voice actor behind the character Ghost in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Jeff Leach, after the comedian and streamer was faced with accusations of sexism. Leach was banned from Twitch in 2017 after comments made about Twitch partner ZombiUnicorn. ZombiUnicorn turned down an offer to appear on a show when she heard Leach would also be a guest – who then made the comments about her on the show. On May 7, a Twitter thread was posted by Facebook streamer NitroLukeDX, including a clip of Leach’s comments about ZombiUnicorn, as well as another clip more recent, believed to be from December 2020. In response, ZombiUnicorn called upon both Facebook Gaming (where Leach is a partnered broadcaster) and Call of Duty publisher Activision to take action. On May 8, an Activision spokesperson provided Dexerto the following statement: “Sexism has no place in our industry, our games or in society. Activision is no longer working with Jeff Leach. We strongly condemn these remarks. We are committed to delivering a fun and safe experience for all players.” Leach defends comments On Twitter, Jeff Leach explained that his allegedly sexist comments were in response to “a hateful, toxic troll who came into my community chat to attack me and my community. “I have done the same to men who think that internet trolling and toxic behavior are clever. I’m a stand-up comic. You made this a gender-related issue and took it out of context.” https://twitter.com/jeffleach/status/1391147050956251139 He also said that he did not condone anyone sending “threatening messages” and that anyone who does so does not represent his community. ZombiUnicorn said “good on [Activision] for taking action” but reiterated that Facebook Gaming was still “allowing hate and prejudice to reign free on your platform.” I sent @Activision a lot of documentation of his prejudice & misogyny over the years. If this statement is true, good on them for taking action.@FacebookGaming we’re still waiting on your response to allowing hate and prejudice to reign free on your platform. https://t.co/uQIvCLrHdg — Nati Ⓥ (they/them) (@TheZombiUnicorn) May 9, 2021 At the time of writing, Jeff Leach is still a partnered streamer on Facebook Gaming.

Call of Duty: Neymar leaks classic Black Ops 2 map coming to Blackout – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Neymar leaks classic Black Ops 2 map coming to Blackout ActivisionProfessional soccer player Neymar Jr. has seemingly leaked a new location being added to the map of Call of Duty’s new Blackout battle royale mode. According to a video posted by the superstar on his Instagram page, the classic Black Ops 2 Multiplayer map called Hijacked could be the next addition in Blackout. In the video, Neymar Jr. can be seen standing in front of a poster that has Hijacked written in large letters and the iconic boat where the map was located in BO2. The video was a teaser for Neymar’s Black Ops 4 stream on December 3, in which he plays Blackout with his Paris Saint-Germain teammates Marquinhos and Thiago Silva, as well as popular Brazilian YouTuber Alan ‘alanzoka’ Ferreira. The poster itself has also never been seen or used before in any Call of Duty promotional material, which rules out it the possibility that it’s just an old-school image from the Black Ops 2 days. It wouldn’t be a stretch of the imagination by any means if Hijacked were brought back in Blackout, especially since Treyarch’s Studio Lead Designer David Vonderhaar recently hinted at changes coming to the map. Of course all of this should be treated as nothing more than speculation until either Activision and/or Treyarch officially announce or confirm the news, although most fans would likely get excited by even just the prospect of this being the next new location in Blackout.

Call of Duty needs to remaster its most underrated Modern Warfare and Black Ops maps – Dexerto
Call of Duty needs to remaster its most underrated Modern Warfare and Black Ops maps ActivisionEach year, it feels as though there are progressively more map remasters in Call of Duty. While much of the time they are welcome additions to the map pool, the developers must start bringing back some of the best forgotten maps the franchise has. Every year, it’s unavoidable that we see maps like Rust and Shipment in the map pool, but the likes of Dome, Firing Range, and Nuketown have also been mainstays for well over a decade now. Not only that, but Modern Warfare 3 (the 2023 version) launched with all 16 classic MW2 maps, an unprecedented move that has never yet happened in COD — but could become a blueprint for future titles, according to latest reports, with leaks hinting at Black Ops 2 remastered maps in 2025. While they’re all popular maps, especially with remasters like Dome often being recreations rather than 1:1 remasters, the comfort of familiarity doesn’t always result in the most enjoyable experience and can grow stale a tad quicker than with good original maps. For that reason, all the major Call of Duty developers need to start digging a bit deeper into their history books to find maps that haven’t received the love they deserved with remasters. The original Modern Warfare 3 had some maps that players rave about to this day, but that haven’t been remastered at all. The likes of Arkaden, Lockdown, Village, Underground, Seatown, Resistance… the list is incredibly long, and they haven’t been given the chance to shine in any modern Call of Duty title. Even looking forward to the forthcoming 2024 entry, reported to be called Black Ops Gulf War, there are a number of maps from throughout the Black Ops series that could easily be translated into a modern-day COD and be loved. While Firing Range and Nuketown are iconic, so why can’t we try maps like Havana, Hanoi, Carrier, Plaza, and more? Better yet, could they be creative and recreate the most popular Black Ops 3 maps for a boots-on-the-ground title? Fringe, Evac, and Breach could be a lot of fun with slight restructuring here and there. It would be a lie to say that maps like Rust and Shipment aren’t among the most popular in the game, but for both longtime fans of the franchise and newcomers alike, bringing back some of these forgotten maps could prove to be perfect in keeping things fresh going forward. For newer players, the maps will feel new too: they may not have the memories of traversing the London-based Underground map, or the cross-mall snipes on Arkaden, but the experiences will be the same and could even quickly become fan favorites, just like they were all those years ago. On the flip side, these are perfect nostalgia plays for those who play every year and want to relive some of their younger days on maps they’ve not seen for years. While it seems obvious to some players, each dev — Treyarch, Infinity Ward, and Sledgehammer Games — has to start looking more into their history books to bring back maps that players have forgotten how much they loved. There are so many to choose from that it shouldn’t be difficult, and with yearly releases, they could easily be fed in over time.

Call of Duty is beating Battlefield on YouTube and Twitch for the first time in years – Dexerto
Call of Duty is beating Battlefield on YouTube and Twitch for the first time in years Battlefield and Call of Duty are two of the most popular first person shooter franchises out there. Naturally, there’s going to be some competition between the two. In terms of YouTube and Twitch viewership and interaction, Battlefield has had the edge, but it looks like Black Ops 4 is ready to put CoD back in the driver’s seat. According to GitHyp.com, Battlefield V’s reveal on YouTube, which had 12 million views, was far less popular than CoD: WW2’s reveal last year, which had over 23 million viewers. Now let’s look at the numbers for CoD’s newest installment, Black Ops 4 and compare the two. Posted around the same time as Battlefield V’s multiplayer reveal, the BO4 multiplayer reveal video has about the same number of viewers, but a much higher rate of upvotes. Battlefield V’s reveal video from May has around 336k upvotes as compared to 477k downvotes. The BO4 numbers are much more positive, with 377k upvotes and 223k downvotes on its reveal video from around the same time. GitHyp also reports that CoD has taken the lead on Twitch. Black Ops 4’s private beta has shown off the new Blackout Battle Royale mode and it’s been well received by streamers and the community alike. Blackout has pumped up CoD’s Twitch numbers to a peak of 367k viewers, far more than the peak of 141k for CoD WW2 last year. Battlefield, on the other hand, has only seen it’s Twitch viewership go down from the peak of 150k viewers in May for the BF V reveal. Compare that to the 354k who watched BF1’s reveal in 2016 and we start to see a definite pattern. More: Analysts Predict That Call of Duty’s ‘Blackout’ Battle Royale Mode Will “Thrive” Against Fortnite – A Battlefield V beta that many in the community were not impressed by and the extreme popularity of BO4’s Blackout mode on Twitch and YouTube could lead to CoD being king of the FPS hill once again.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare’s first killstreaks revealed – Dexerto
Call of Duty Modern Warfare’s first killstreaks revealed Infinity WardInfinity Ward have revealed on July 29 some of the Killstreaks players will be able to earn throughout a match in Modern Warfare, and they’re looking mighty deadly. The past few iterations of Call of Duty had players complete objectives and nab kills that would earn them points that would contribute to their Scorestreak. While that system was fun and all, some Call of Duty fans have been wanting a return to a more challenging method of earning support in the battlefield. In the company’s latest reveal, it looks like the franchise will be returning to form by reinstating Killstreaks in their soft reboot of the legendary Modern Warfare series. The batch of images shows off three different awards players will be gunning for to give them a leg up in Multiplayer. Although how many kills each reward requires is currently unknown, the announcement still sent a wave of celebrations to the fan base. Players that unlock the Juggernaut killstreak will instantly be a force to be reckoned with. The concept of Juggernaut enhancements have been in Call of Duty for a long time, but it looks like this killstreak is taking inspiration from Modern Warfare 2’s cut killstreak called “Heavy Armor.” Modern Warfare 3 and Ghosts had an Assault Strike Package called Juggernaut, so it’ll be interesting to where Infinity Ward decide to take this version of the killstreak. The next revealed reward is an Infantry Assault Vehicle topped with a .50 cal rifle to lay waste to the opposing team. This will surely be a popular killstreak among players since it looks like they’ll be able to make an instant impact on a match after calling in the reward. The final revealed killstreak is called White Phosphorus, and is easily the more sinister of the rewards announced so far. Not only will the killstreak disorientate enemies caught in the barrage, the ordinant strike will also be a great Area of Effect tool since it’ll “burn any that wander too close.” All of Modern Warfare killstreaks leaked Previously the entire list of killstreaks coming to Modern Warfare had been leaked, but the CoD community remained skeptical, to say the least. But revisiting the list, both Juggernaut and the specific While Phosphorus were previously leaked. Although players should still take it with a shred of doubt, the leak was right on a few points at least. Infinity Ward are bound to share more official killstreaks with their fans as Modern Warfare’s October 25 release approaches.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be the “most controversial” title yet – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be the “most controversial” title yet Infinity WardCall of Duty” to date, if one new rumor turns out to be correct. Fans are gearing up for the official announcement of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare after months of speculation and rumor. While many may be waiting for news about the hugely popular multiplayer portion of the game, others will want to know what’s coming with the return of a campaign. However, they might not have to wait too long as more hints have been dropped by members of the community who have been proven right in recent weeks. YouTuber LongSensation has been pretty spot on with information about the next game. He had the name right before it was confirmed by reports and he has continued adding more details about what is coming from Infinity Ward. On May 25, LongSensation tweeted: “It will probably be the most conversational Call of Duty to date. Really interested to see the mainstream media response.” However, despite the fact that YouTuber didn’t reveal if he was talking about the campaign or just the game in general, it’s easy to assume that they were making a nod towards the story considering earlier reports about possible details. It will probably be the most conversational Call of Duty to date. Really interested to see the mainstream media response. https://t.co/fenWxxV70o — LongSensation (@LongSensationYT) May 25, 2019 According to Kotaku, the campaign will be “very much” inspired by the shocking, brutal moments of the ‘No Russian’ mission from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Despite the option to skip the violence, the mission sparked outrage from the wider world as the game was censored in numerous countries and widely criticized by the media. However, that’s not the only details that the YouTuber dropped about the game. In an earlier tweet, they listed a number of games that are currently free-to-play – with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare listed at the end. Fortnite Apex Legends War Thunder Warface Paladins Call of Duty: Modern Warfare— LongSensation (@LongSensationYT) May 25, 2019 Is LongSensation correct? Now, it remains to be seen if LongSensation has his information right – even though he has been pretty spot on in the past. Coupling his information about the game being “controversial” and reports already citing the inspiration for the campaign mode, it seems as if he might just be correct. Yet, when it comes to having Call of Duty as a free-to-play title, plenty of fans are going to take that with a massive pinch of salt, despite it also lining up with another previous report. However, that might not be completely out of the realm of possibility if Activision and Infinity Ward are looking at capturing the PC player market or making their profit on the back of cosmetic sales and DLC.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – Release date, campaign, multiplayer, cross-platform, rumors – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – Release date, campaign, multiplayer, cross-platform, rumors Infinity Ward has officially unveiled Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and given first details about the game’s campaign, engine updates and a release date. Teased on May 29, the full reveal for Modern Warfare came a day later, and was much more than just a trailer – although we got one of those too. You can watch the full reveal trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare below. When is Modern Warfare coming out? Infinity Ward confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will release on October 25, 2019. This is a similar approach to Black Ops 4, which also released in October, unlike previous years which were always November. The earlier release date will be welcome news for fans, especially those who have been waiting the full eight years since the last MW game. Will Call of Duty: Modern Warfare have a beta? The release of the official Modern Warfare teaser on May 30 immediately caught the attention of Call of Duty fans, who are already desperate to get their hands on the game and try it out for themselves. While Modern Warfare isn’t scheduled for release until October, many fans are hopeful that there will be a beta in the summer, so they could try out the game and see what it’s like for themselves. Activision and Infinity Ward have yet to officially confirm whether there will be a public beta, but every Call of Duty since Advanced Warfare has had one, so it’s a safe bet that Modern Warfare will two. Based on previous beta releases, players can expect an early access version of the game in late July or August. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare campaign 2018’s Black Ops 4 may have scrapped the single-player campaign, but the fourth entry in the Modern Warfare series has, as expected, brought back the signature mode. Set in 2019, the campaign is said to be the most controversial ever, pushing the boundaries of ‘troubling’ and ‘realism’, inspired by Modern Warfare 2’s controversial ‘No Russian’ mission. Infinity Ward has also confirmed that players will be able to play as different characters other than Tier 1 Operators and that they’ll be playing from an Arab soldier’s perspective for half of the campaign. They’ve dropped the ‘4’ from the title to allow them to create a new story, not based on the events of the trilogy. Captain Price is set to make a return however. Infinity Ward make big engine improvements As we head into the next generation of console gaming, Infinity Ward are keen to push forward the technical performance of the CoD franchise. To do so, they have implemented some major updates to the game engine. These updates will make for much improved graphical fidelity, which in turn should help the game’s desire for ‘realism’. The new technology utilizes the latest advancements in visual engineering, including a physically-based material system allowing for state of the art photogrammetry, a new hybrid tile based streaming system, new PBR decal rendering system, world volumetric lighting, 4K HDR, DirectX Raytracing (PC) and more as well as a new GPU geometry pipeline. What about multiplayer? Like previous years, the developers are keeping multiplayer under wraps for now. For now, they are focusing all the attention on a more general overview of the game, and of course the campaign. Leakers have claimed that multiplayer will be getting a major overhaul for Modern Warfare, including a new class system, no mini-map, and even the potential for cross-platform play. Note that this leak is currently unconfirmed. Given the game’s title and inspiration from past Modern Warfare games, it is possible that maps and other content from previous entries in the series make a return. We already know that there will be a brand new reload system to go along with a ton of real-world weapon but the biggest news might just be that the full list of killstreaks have been ‘leaked‘. According to that leak, the game would make a return to gaining bonuses via kills and not wracking up points for scorestreaks, Cross-platform play coming to Modern Warfare Cross-platform play between PS4, Xbox One and PC has been confirmed for the 2019 Call of Duty, a first in franchise history. This follows a growing industry trend, which helps to connect players on all platforms, increasing the player base for multiplayer modes. Issues around keyboard and mouse players and controller players will still need to be addressed however, especially when so crucial in a first person shooter. “Never before seen” progression system Another major change coming to Modern Warfare is a brand new progression system. Previously, players would rank up in each of Call of Duty’s modes separately, however in Modern Warfare progress from single-player, multiplayer and co-op will all be linked, in which Activision states will be a “unified narrative experience.” This means that if you rank a weapon up in the game’s campaign, it will also be ranked up in multiplayer. There’s no season pass coming, though Activision has announced that there’s no season pass in sights for the game, which is a big relief on players’ wallets as nobody likes forking out more money on a game they’ve already paid for. In the official Infinity Ward press release, they said, “we’re eliminating the traditional season pass, so that we can deliver more free maps and content as well as post-launch events to all players. This is just the beginning – there’s much more to come.” The promise of free content is a great step forward for the company, and will no doubt get players to stick around far after the release of Modern Warfare. Modern Warfare price and special editions Modern Warfare is already available for preorder, with prices for the standard version of the game sitting between $60 to $70 depending on the retailer. Gamestop also added preorder pages for two special versions of the game, the Precision and Dark Editions, which are priced at $99.99 and $199.99 respectively. The Precision Edition will include: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game – Steelbook – KontrolFreek Modern Warfare branded Performance Thumbsticks – KontrolFreek Modern Warfare branded Controller Skin – Custom In-game Tactical Knife – “All Ghillied Up” Operator Pack – “Crew Expendable” Operator Pack – “War Pig” Operator Pack – C.O.D.E. Animated Calling Card – It’s currently unknown what the Dark Edition will offer. What is Modern Warfare’s ESRB rating? ESRB ratings are used to signify what age groups a game is suitable for, based on the violence, adult themes or gory nature of the title. Black Ops 4 was rated Mature, but many feel that Modern Warfare will be given an ’18+ Adults Only’ rating based on the information available regarding the campaign and it’s storyline, but this is yet to be confirmed by ESRB. Will there be a Battle Royale mode? Treyarch’s ‘Blackout’ mode in Black Ops 4 was a big success, bringing a triple-A feel to the battle royale trend. Although it may not have usurped the unbeatable Fortnite Battle Royale, it still cut out a nice chunk of the market for itself. Infinity Ward have yet to say anything about a possible Modern Warfare battle royale mode – maintaining their ‘no comment’ stance. That’s everything we know so far about Call of Duty 2019, but there is plenty more information to come in the months leading up to release – stay tuned to Dexerto for updates. This article was updated at 12:27PM EST on Sunday, July 7.

Call of Duty 2019 official reveal – date, time, Modern Warfare rumors, how to watch – Dexerto
Call of Duty 2019 official reveal – date, time, Modern Warfare rumors, how to watch Call of Duty have confirmed that the reveal for the brand new 2019 CoD game, rumored to be a new Modern Warfare title, will take place on May 30. The game is widely expected to be called Modern Warfare, as opposed to the previously rumored Modern Warfare 4, and will apparently be a ‘soft reboot’ of the beloved franchise. Date and time of CoD 2019 reveal As previously rumored, the Call of Duty reveal will take place on May 30 at 6pm BST / 10am PDT / 1pm EDT. While the video doesn’t confirm the time directly, the blurry tease of May 30, 10am PDT almost certainly alludes to the official reveal time. How to watch CoD 2019 reveal The official reveal for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will likely be available on Call of Duty’s official YouTube channel. It has not been confirmed if the reveal will also be streamed on Twitch, although previous reveals have been. The video was scheduled to go live Call of Duty’s YouTube, but images from the thumbnail leaked and revealed the first look at Modern Warfare’s cover art, so it has since been taken down. Watch live video from Call of Duty on www.twitch.tvKey info leaked about Modern Warfare In anticipation of the reveal event on May 30, Activision uploaded the content to YouTube a day early, which gave some users access to glimpses of the upcoming stream. Although Activision were quick to take down the content, they were not quick enough to prevent key game art, a sneak peek clip, and the release date of the game to be leaked. What could be revealed? Speculation is rampant as to what the new Call of Duty game could include. Excitement ahead of new Call of Duty games is always intense but with a supposed return to the Modern Warfare series, this reveal has an extra edge to it. There has been a lot of discussion about the 2019 CoD single-player mode with the strongest rumors indicating a campaign inspired by Modern Warfare 2’s infamous “No Russian” mission. Consequently, the reveal could be centred around this. What modes the new Call of Duty includes could also be revealed. Rumors for this range from a four player co-op campaign, a return to the classic Spec Ops mode to MW2 and MW3 references. Naturally a game titled Modern Warfare would demand some sort of connotation to its predecessors. The hype for a remaster of both Modern Warfare 2 and 3 is perhaps as big as any game that has previously got the remastered treatment. With the game being described as a reboot by leaks, the addition of either MW2 or MW3 multiplayer mode being remastered is far from certain. Instead, the core Modern Warfare multiplayer mode could utilize maps from both these games. A mixture of MW2 and MW3 maps appearing in game has been touted. Whether these are direct remakes or something different such as the maps being combined remains to be seen. Last updated: May 30, 9:26 AM EST.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare ray tracing trailer revealed and it looks incredible – Dexerto
Call of Duty Modern Warfare ray tracing trailer revealed and it looks incredible ActivisionThe big news revealed by Nvidia at Gamescom on August 19 is that Call of Duty Modern Warfare will feature full ray tracing with RTX GPUs and the results are amazing. Ray tracing has pushed the envelope for what players expect for the graphics of their favorite games. The full power is only available to PC owners who own Nvidia’s new line of RTX cards, but the results are night and day over what games normally look like. Modern Warfare was already using a brand-new engine that would make the game look better than ever across all platforms. Read More: Why hasn’t MW2 Remastered been announced? – While the game looks great on PS4 and Xbox One, PC is where the title is really able to stretch its legs and the power of ray tracing shows just what the current-gen consoles are missing out on. Nvidia released several screenshots of what the game looks like with the new technology, along with a new trailer. It’s very easy to see how drastic the changes are and players who plan on experiencing Modern Warfare on PC are going to have to fight strong urges to not upgrade their PC right now. While ray tracing was originally only available for the 20-series Nvidia GPUs, support was later rolled out to the 10-series but it’s a stripped-back version of the technology. Those at Gamescom have a chance to play Modern Warfare, complete with the ray tracing, and can capture their own gameplay. Read More: Minecraft, which is currently undergoing its own renaissance, is getting the option for ray tracing and it completely transforms how the game looks based on the screenshots. Call of Duty Modern Warfare launch servers DOWN – latest updates – Dexerto
Call of Duty Modern Warfare launch servers DOWN – latest updates Update 10/24/19 9:01 PM PST Infinity Ward has confirmed servers are coming back online for Modern Warfare players after “crazy traffic” left many locked out of the game. “Massive thank you for your patience and apologies for the delay. Crazy traffic tonight, but servers are coming back online now, and everyone should be able to begin launching Modern Warfare,” the developers confirmed just past 9pm on launch day. Earlier coverage on Modern Warfare’s launch day server issues: The Call of Duty players around the world left locked out of the highly anticipated release due to server issues across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Players on all consoles have been reporting “Connection Failed” status updates when attempting to log in to the newly released title, while others have found themselves locked into lengthy server queues in order to get into the game. Activision has confirmed their support team are investigating the problems players are facing, and will update the player base as soon as they have a fix. “We’re actively investigating an issue where some players are unable to connect to Modern Warfare. Stay tuned for updates,” the Activistion Support team announced, and confirmed in a following tweet that if players were already in-game, they would be able to continue playing. “We are continuing to investigate the issue related to the huge volume of new players connecting to Modern Warfare. Players that are in game should be able to continue playing without interruption. We will continue to provide updates as quickly as we can.” We are continuing to investigate the issue related to the huge volume of new players connecting to Modern Warfare. Players that are in game should be able to continue playing without interruption. We will continue to provide updates as quickly as we can. — Activision Support (@ATVIAssist) October 25, 2019 The official Call of Duty server status site is still suggesting PlayStation, Xbox One, and PC servers are still “online” despite the outages, so it’s unclear if this is a user-based issue or if Infinity Ward has not yet determined the problem. There have also been reports from Xbox One X players who have been experiencing crashes while playing Modern Warfare matches, which would send them back to the console’s dashboard whenever they were killed in-game. Infinity Ward has also confirmed they are “already working” to find a solution to that issue. We are seeing a small number of Xbox One X players experience crashes with Modern Warfare. We are already working on a fix. Thanks for your patience and feedback. We will keep you posted. — Infinity Ward (@InfinityWard) October 25, 2019 These problems have arisen for single player and multiplayer gamers alike, considering the campaign mode still needs an internet connection to play because experience carries over to certain level progressions for the game — a feature that CoD faithful are less than happy about. “I just want to play the god damn campaign. Why do I need to go online? Bullshit!” one annoyed single-player fan said, while others were just disappointed: “Would have been nice if we got this while trying to connect to multiplayer so we could at least play the campaign.” The server problems also put a temporary halt to the hype-train surrounding massive streaming star’s Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek shock move to Mixer, who was left watching a “Connecting to Online Services” on his first day on the new platform. Other streamers found their way into the game ahead of the global launch, however, including 100 Thieves founder Matthew ‘Nadeshot’ Hagg, who took the chance to show he can still ride the sticks like any pro when he bagged a three-piece on a few Call of Duty League stars. Dexerto is monitoring the issues, and this article will continue to be updated with more information regarding the ongoing issues.

Sneak peek at Modern Warfare factions revealed – Dexerto
Sneak peek at Modern Warfare factions revealed Infinity WardThe faction logos for Call of Duty’s upcoming release Modern Warfare have surfaced thanks to New Era’s game-related merchandise page. Call of Duty fans from around the world are gearing up for the Modern Warfare multiplayer reveal on Thursday, August 1, with Infinity Ward finally lifting the lid on what to expect when the October 25 release date comes around. Fans have already seen, and reacted to, the new Gunfight 2v2 mode and even got an insight into the supposed brand new perks and a full list of potential killstreaks, thanks to leakers with alleged sources. Yet, official information has remained sparse. However, thanks to New Era – the clothing company that Call of Duty has been doing merchandise with since the release of Black Ops 4 – the brand new logos for in-game factions have appeared upon a newly released hoodie. The image, which doesn’t have any names for the groups, shows eight logos that are set to be emblazoned on the sleeves of the hoodie – with half taking the left side, and the other half taking the right side. Considering how many insignias there are, it seems likely that they are the Multiplayer groups. 600There is also a t-shirt for a sale that has a further two logos on, with each badge taking up a sleeve of their own. Some long-time fans may immediately draw out the comparison between these and the classic logos for the Army Rangers and Taskforce 141 from the campaign. While the two new logos aren’t the same as those, it might be a reimagining from Infinity Ward as the description lists them as the symbols for the West factions With only five days to go until the multiplayer reveal at time of writing, it remains to be seen as to if these logos will actually be the ones used in online play. With Infinity Ward confirming that the tile will be a soft reboot of the franchise and not follow on the iconic trilogy, fans could very well be in for some brand new teams to fight for in Modern Warfare.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare dev defends White Phosphorous Killstreak amid controversy – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare dev defends White Phosphorous Killstreak amid controversy Infinity WardUsers across Twitter have been taking issue with one of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s killstreaks, because of its use in real life. However, one of the game’s developers is defending the inclusion of White Phosphorous. Speaking with VG247, multiplayer design director Geoff Smith explained that it, “…really kinda came out of the old EMP killstreak.” “It’s really hard to convey this electromagnetic pulse that disrupts maybe your HUD. So it wasn’t like a set change or a mood change, the stakes had changed for us.” Players already have a lot to work with in the current build of Modern Warfare. White phosphorous is a chemical weapon that, in the real world, is used to create a white smokescreen, but it’s also extremely hot at 5,000 degrees Fahrenheit (2760 C). That’s hot enough to melt through human bone. The US military used white phosphorus in the battle for Fallujah in Iraq. An action the Pentagon defended in 2005. In Modern Warfare, it covers parts of the map and “does a strip of damage, the smoke plumes come out, and there are just little hotspots of burning embers,” Smith explained. “When you’re in it you cough and you’re at half health, so it’s like a softener of things.” The game’s animation director, Mark Griggsby said there isn’t a special burning effect with the killstreak. Regarding the controversy of including white phosphorus, Smith took a neutral route, but stressed that the game, “is more about two sides, that there is no good guy or bad guy, you play on either one. We’re just creating this playground to play on.” “I always felt like in the previous games that multiplayer is like the distant weapon fire that you hear a few blocks away from where the single player is,” the developer stated. Call of Duty players will have the option to select a number of new perks in Modern Warfare. He also made the point that previous games had tactical nukes, but they didn’t generate the same level of controversy. “Maybe people are reacting to the photogrammetry, the more realistic visuals. Maybe if it was more cartoony would that be more acceptable?” Smith pondered. Whatever the case, Modern Warfare has generated a lot of attention as the world braces for its release. Players will be able to try out the game, and the White Phosphorous Killstreak when the exclusive beta hits PS4 September 12-13. The open beta begins on September 14-16. The full game is ready to drop on October 25, 2019.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Cold War & more finally added to Steam – Dexerto
Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Cold War & more finally added to Steam Steam/ActivisionA number of previous Call of Duty games are finally being added to Steam, giving PC players a way to play without having to use the Battlenet launcher. While Call of Duty has always been recognized as primarily a console game, the growing PC playerbase has been impossible to ignore as former console gamers make the switch. This was especially apparent when Warzone launched in 2020 and took over the world, bringing in players in their millions on PC. In 2022, Modern Warfare II became the first CoD game to launch on Steam since World War II launched in November 2017, marking a 5-year absence for the game on the popular platform. Now, as announced on March 8, 2023, three previous Call of Duty titles that missed out on Steam integration are being added. They are: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) – Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War – Call of Duty: Vanguard – Of course, with Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 proving so popular already, especially with the introduction of Ranked Play to multiplayer and the Ashika Island resurgence map to battle royale in Season 2, you shouldn’t expect the player bases on these games to skyrocket. That said, it definitely makes things easier for players who want to go back and play older games without having to switch between Steam and Battlenet. This now means that the only Call of Duty games not on Steam are 2018’s Black Ops 4 and Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, with all of the prior games also available on the platform.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare campaign details: inspired by MW2’s ‘No Russian’ – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare campaign details: inspired by MW2’s ‘No Russian’ ActivisionAs fans look forward to Infinity Ward’s upcoming Call of Duty title, it appears that the game’s campaign will be inspired by “troubling, realistic” moments, such as the infamous ‘No Russian’ mission from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Despite being released back in 2009, Modern Warfare 2 is still generally considered one of the best Call of Duty games ever made. It was lauded by fans for its enjoyable multiplayer, and its visceral, brutal campaign. Despite the most recent Call of Duty game, Treyarch’s Black Ops 4, not containing a traditional story mode, all indications point to the inclusion of one in 2019’s CoD game. As news about the upcoming title slowly trickles out, Kotaku have indicated that the upcoming game’s campaign will be “very much” inspired by the shocking, brutal moments like those in ‘No Russian’. 600‘No Russian’ was a mission from Modern Warfare 2, in which the player controls undercover CIA agent, Joseph Allen, who participates in the mass shooting of civilians at an airport, in an effort to cement his place in a Russian terrorist group. The name comes from the terrorists’ leader, Makarov, telling his followers: “Remember, no Russian” just prior to carrying out the atrocity. The mission received considerable attention and controversy when the game released, with many criticizing the brutality as unnecessary and abhorrent. However, many also praised the game for not being afraid to include controversial moments, and felt the game was stronger thanks to the emotional, disturbing moments. Now, Kotaku have reported that CoD 2019 will “be heavy on troubling, realistic emotional moments, very much inspired by the controversial No Russian campaign in Modern Warfare 2 that allowed the player to gun down civilians.” Fans have long been calling for another installment into the Modern Warfare series, particularly given the mixed community reception received by their last two titles: 2016’s Infinite Warfare and 2013’s Ghosts. While some may be deterred by the suggestion of such violence, many fans will be excited to see what Infinity Ward have dreamt up, as their reputation of producing emotionally resonant, controversial campaigns shows no signs of wavering.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare bringing big change to loadout customization – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare bringing big change to loadout customization ActivisonActivision have confirmed that Call of Duty players will see a massive change to loadouts in Modern Warfare and it’s something people have wanted for a long time. While there’s nothing worse than starting a round or game with a class that you didn’t really want to select at the beginning, or perhaps missed out an attachment of some sort, this year’s CoD title looks set to put an end to those problems. Activision’s design director on the project, Geoff Smith, has confirmed that there will be a new layer of customization at players’ disposal that will allow them to quickly change how they’re playing. “For years we thought that if someone was able to edit their loadout in-game they would be AFK, but with so many different attachments, it’s fun to switch out the stuff on the fly,” design director Geoff Smith said in an official blog post. He added: “Everybody scoffed at it when we first said we wanted to put it in, but it feels so good when you quickly change to a different attachment depending on the situation. Instant gratification!” While fans will have to wait to get their hands on the shooter game to give it a proper try, on November 5 when the game releases, where will also be a beta for players to get to grips with the new feature before launch. The Modern Warfare online beta is set to go live in September but when you will be able to access it will depend on the platform of your choosing. There will be cross-play included in the second round of testing, though. PlayStation players will get to see it slightly earlier than others, with an early access beta being made available for them first due to an exclusivity agreement between Sony and Activision. Full dates can be seen below. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta dates PlayStation 4 Exclusive Beta September 12 – 13 (Early Access, PlayStation 4) – September 14 – 16 (Open Beta, PlayStation 4) – – Beta featuring crossplay testing September 19 – 20 (Early Access, PC and Xbox One; Open Beta, PlayStation 4) – September 21 – 23 (Open Beta, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One) – – With this major change to loadouts now confirmed, as well as a whole host of new perks, list of killstreaks, weapons, and more already out there for fans to read about, no doubt that many will be chomping at the bit to give the game a try when it eventually launches in November. We’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out in-game.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare banned from Russian PlayStation store – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare banned from Russian PlayStation store Sony Interactive Russia have refused to sell the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on the Russian PlayStation store, Activision have announced. Modern Warfare is the fourth game in the series, providing a reimagined story, not following on directly from the original trilogy, but taking place in the same universe. It first became clear that SIE Russia had some reservations about the game after the beta for the game was abruptly removed from the PlayStation store. Additionally, preorders for the game made on the Russian PlayStation store were canceled, with money returned to users who had already preordered. When the beta was removed, an Activision spokesperson told CharlieINTEL, “Unfortunately, Sony Interactive Entertainment is unable to support the Modern Warfare Beta on PS4 in Russia this weekend.” On October 22, Call of Duty Russia confirmed that “SIE decided not to sell the game in the Russian PS Store”, despite it being “a completely fictional story, carefully crafted to please all players.” — Call of Duty Russia (@CallofDutyRU) October 22, 2019 The statement in full reads: At the heart of Modern Warfare is a completely fictional story, carefully crafted to please all players. SIE decided not to sell the game in the Russian PS Store. We look forward to the release of the game digitally for PC and Xbox on October 25. On PC, the game is available exclusively on Battle.Net, meaning Activision itself has full control. Will Modern Warfare be on Xbox in Russia? For now, it appears Microsoft has not raised the same objections to having the game on sale for Xbox One in Russia. It’s peculiar that of the two major consoles, the game is going ahead in Russia on the Microsoft store for Xbox, but not PlayStation, as Activision and Sony still have a deal for Modern Warfare on PS4. Although there is no longer exclusivity for map packs and DLC, PlayStation 4 players will have access to Modern Warfare’s Survival Mode for an entire year before it comes to PC and Xbox in October 2020.

Modern Warfare confirmed as CoD 2019 – Release date and trailer – Dexerto
Modern Warfare confirmed as CoD 2019 – Release date and trailer After months of speculation and anticipation Modern Warfare has been confirmed as the title of the 2019 Call of Duty game. It had widely been assumed that Modern Warfare 4 would be the title of the 2019 Call of Duty game. With rumors of the next game being a new Modern Warfare, it was understandable that many thought it would be MW4. However, prominent figures in the CoD community revealed it would actually be called Modern Warfare. This of course has proven correct resulting in Call of Duty shocking fans by avoiding the MW4 tag. Developed by Infinity Ward, Modern Warfare sees the first return to the Modern Warfare series since 2011 when MW3 came out. Read More: CoD: Modern Warfare leak suggests massive multiplayer changes – Cross-platform, class system and more – Even with the popularity of the Black Ops games, the Modern Warfare titles are arguably held in greater regard. It is this fondness that has resulted in Modern Warfare being one of the most anticipated releases in Call of Duty history. Trailer As is customary with any Call of Duty reveal, an exciting new trailer was shared. While all CoD trailers do a fantastic job of hyping the next game, the Modern Warfare trailer looks particularly special. The 1:52 long trailer which is based on “actual in-game footage” teases the lines “the rules have changed” and “going dark” – two phrases which have been seen in the build up to the Modern Warfare reveal. Various locations are shown in the campaign footage including most notably what appears to be the UK. Release date The fourth instalment of the Modern Warfare series will release on October 25, 2019. This doesn’t come as any huge surprise as Call of Duty Black Ops 4 also released in October. Previous Call of Duty games have generally released in the first two weeks of November – it appears the new strategy is for an October release. Modern Warfare will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. A video posted to the official PlayStation YouTube channel shows that their exclusivity deal will continue for Modern Warfare. The trailer concludes with a voice saying: “Play new content first on PS4”. This potentially doesn’t refer to Modern Warfare and it could be a general statement – however it seems likely it does. What’s next? Speculation will continue to run wild as to what else Modern Warfare will entail. In the coming weeks there will be events held for a select few to capture gameplay. This will be released when Call of Duty provide their first official look Modern Warfare 4 gameplay.

Modern Warfare 3 was first leaked back in May 2023, with rough release windows for the full title as well as the Warzone integration and reveal event among other things. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 players on Xbox frustrated at massive update – Dexerto
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 players on Xbox frustrated at massive update ActivisionCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 players on Xbox are pulling their hair out with a gigantic update for the game’s new season. While many players are eager to jump into the game’s first season, Xbox players are left confused as to the size of the update and how long it will take to download. Instead of jumping into the game’s new maps, modes, and weapons in a reasonable amount of time, Xbox players are having to wait for a lot of new data to download. This is in addition to the game’s already large file size as is. Players have taken to social media to vent their frustrations and wonder why the install size for the update is so big. MW3 Xbox players are upset about update size When Xbox players went to download the new season of Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer, they realized they were going to be waiting for awhile. Some players have reported massive file sizes up to 243 GB and have been venting their frustration on social media, specifically Reddit. Some users reported that their update started at just 21GB, but they had to restart their system. AFter the restart, they reported the file size jumped to 190GB or more. However, some players are reporting regular file sizes, though many of them have said they are stuck on a “checking for update” error. Some are theorizing that shutting the consoles down in the middle of the update is triggering a full re-installation of the game. This has prompted some debate about how the update process needs to be refined. This is just one more controversy that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has faced after its campaign was not well-received upon release, in spite of a well-regarded multiplayer and Zombies mode.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2v2 Gunfight Alpha announced at Gamescom – Dexerto
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2v2 Gunfight Alpha announced at Gamescom In a surprise announcement at Gamescom 2019 on Monday, August 19, Activision and Infinity Ward revealed that fans will be able to get their hands on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer early. During the Gamescom Opening Night livestream, Activision announced that the 2v2 Gunfight mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be playable in Alpha from August 23 through August 26. Only Playstation 4 players will have access though, which means Xbox and PC players are out of luck, possibly until the game releases on October 25. How do we get into the beta? The Gunfight Alpha will be open to all PS4 players and unlike previous previews, no code is needed to play this Alpha. Activision and PlayStation are obviously keeping their partnership going, so this is a PS4-only testing Alpha. The Alpha will feature 5 Gunfight maps: Speedball, King, Pine, Docks, and Stack, which are all specifically designed for the intense gameplay of the mode. The 2v2 Gunfight mode is just one of the many new modes coming in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare this fall, alongside standard 6v6, new 10v10, 20v20, and 100+ player modes. Modern Warfare promises to be one of the biggest games of the year, and it looks like PS4 players will get the first chance to try it out. How does Gunfight work? Unlike Modern Warfare’s regular Multiplayer experience – which focuses more on insanely deep weapon customization – Gunfight Mode is about players adapting to unpredictable loadouts in intimate 2v2 maps. The goal of Gunfight is simple: First team to win five rounds secures victory but each team begins a given round with a “random” weapon loadout, from pistol and rocket launcher combos to scoped shotguns. More information about Modern Warfare’s Gunfight Mode can be found on the official Playstation Blog. So, find a partner PS4 players and we’ll see you when the Gunfight 2v2 Alpha goes live on August 23 – hopefully before you see us.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 ranked mode leaks hint at new details – Dexerto
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 ranked mode leaks hint at new details ActivisonA new leak for Modern Warfare 2’s ranked play reveals some potential details about what the upcoming game mode could look like and include. This includes a ruleset emulating the Call of Duty League and a proper ladder system. Call of Duty is finally getting more ranked play in Modern Warfare 2. After Treyarch confirmed its arrival for 2023, details are slowly being leaked ahead of time. The leak, first reported by Insider Gaming, details what the upcoming ranked MW2 game mode will look like and possibly include. The leak was provided from the Twitter account codsploitz_imgs. The leaks claim that Modern Warfare 2’s Ranked Mode will be set up in a 4v4 structure and will include “every rule, map, and mode present in the Call of Duty League.” MW2 ranked will also allow unrestricted access to all unrestricted attachments from players while also including locks on “restricted items, enables friendly fire by default, and issues suspensions or penalties based on inactivity, disconnecting, and repeated friendly fire.” According to Insider Gaming, Ranked players will advance up skill divisions and tiers by earning ‘SR’, which is adjusted and applied following each match. If a Ranked player wins three matches in a row, they will enter a “hot streak.” This feature will set them emblem alight and keep it that way until their next loss. As well as this, the leak claims that rank will be a permanent feature and will remain in the game across multiple seasons. However, the “Skill Division” will change and reset each season. There are reportedly going to be seven skill divisions. Images Insider Gaming shared have since been taken down by Activision Blizzard via a DMCA. But with the feature now taking shape behind closed doors, it’s only a matter of time before it’s released to everyone. If any more leaks or concrete information drops about Modern Warfare 2’s ranked, we’ll be sure to keep you updated on our Modern Warfare 2 Ranked play hub.
