Teofimo Lopez challenges Terence Crawford after defending junior welterweight title Instagram: ToprankTeofimo Lopez was riding high after defeating Jamaine Ortiz Thursday night, and called out Terence Crawford and every top fighter at 140 pounds after the fight. Teofimo Lopez retained his WBO and The Ring junior welterweight titles in a unanimous decision victory over Jamaine Ortiz on Thursday night. Lopez may have given the boxing world an even more captivating spectacle after the fight. While donning his belts, Lopez had many choice words for his contemporaries at 140 pounds as well as the pound-for-pound king of the ring. Lopez chose to challenge Terence Crawford to a fight, unclear whether he extended the challenge at catchweight or intends to move up to welterweight. He also invited the heavy hitters at junior welterweight to come and take his titles from him. Was this delusions of grandeur on Lopez’s part, or an untameable confidence that he can back up if taken up on his challenge? Lopez goes off on junior welterweight contenders post-fight In the same breath, Lopez also blasted his division rivals while feeling himself after his victory. As Top Rank published on YouTube, Lopez looked directly at the camera and said: “If you ain’t ready for this life, get the f— out of my sport.” Lopez is fairly new to the junior welterweight division. Though he’s wasted no time reaching its mountaintop in his divisional debut, Lopez has only fought in it four times over the last 17 months. Meanwhile, Crawford has conquered every major opponent at welterweight and took down Errol Spence Jr. in his magnum opus to date. Lopez has the name brand and skills to warrant negotiations with Crawford’s camp, but without having tasted a second of action at 147 pounds, his timing may be off, especially considering Crawford is looking at a potential move-up in weight to light middleweight. Next in line to face Lopez would be WBC light welterweight champion Devin Haney or top contender Josh Taylor, both of which are the next two highest ranked fighters in the division according to The Ring magazine. Taylor specifically has been on The Ring’s list for 343 weeks, signaling his time to get a shot at one of the title holders. Haney also carries more gravitas at the current moment, so a fight between Lopez and Taylor could set the stage for a unification bout.

Tayler Holder finally offers to fight Bryce Hall years after boxing callout – Dexerto
Tayler Holder finally offers to fight Bryce Hall years after boxing callout Instagram: brycehall, taylerholderTikTok star Tayler Holder has finally offered to fight rival influencer Bryce Hall years after Hall first challenged Holder to a boxing match. There’s bad blood between two of TikTok’s top stars — and it’s looking more and more likely that they’ll finally squash their beef in the boxing ring. It all started after 26-year-old Tayler Holder was hit with murky allegations back in 2022, resulting in him getting unfollowed en masse by a slew of other top creators. Bryce Hall was one of these influencers, who made no bones about how he felt toward Tayler and claimed he’d even received a cease and desist letter from the TikToker urging him not to speak on the accusations. Since then, Hall has made it his mission to call out Holder at any given opportunity, and has openly challenged him to a boxing match several times. However, Tayler hasn’t seemed very interested in stepping into the ring with him, even calling Hall’s challenges “weird.” Tayler Holder is finally willing to box Bryce Hall It appears that his tune has changed, though. In March 2024, Holder reacted to a clip from Kick streamer Adin Ross’ broadcast where he claimed “nobody wants to fight Bryce Hall” for the main match in his upcoming boxing event. Holder quickly raised his hand, seeming more than willing to face off with his fellow TikTok star years after he was initially called out for a fight. Thus far, it doesn’t look like Hall has reacted to Tayler’s video — but not for lack of effort from commenters, who are doing their best to make him aware of the situation. However, Hall’s lack of a response is probably because he’s a bit caught up in some unexpected drama with rapper Kanye West, who apparently slid into his girlfriend’s DMs after returning to California from a trip the very same day as Holder’s video.

Stephen A. Smith launches extraordinary rant at boxing promoters and Canelo Alvarez – Dexerto
Stephen A. Smith launches extraordinary rant at boxing promoters and Canelo Alvarez First Take/TwitterPound-for-pound boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez’s next opponent is mooted to be WBC middleweight world champion Jermall Charlo. Alvarez will put all four of his super-middleweight titles on the line on Cinco de Mayo weekend (Saturday, May 4), as Charlo steps up from 160 lbs to 168lbs, according to reports. The fight has been met with some ire from boxing fans, given Charlo had not fought for almost 30 months before his comeback win over Jose Benavidez Jr in November and has never fought at super-middleweight. Canelo also fought Charlo’s twin brother, Jermell, in his last fight, who stepped up two divisions to challenge him, many felt super-middleweight contender David Benavidez was the ideal next opponent for the Mexican fighter. Stephen A. Smith “sick” of boxing promoters and fighters being avoided Their ire was matched by ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith, who said Canelo and his promoters’ decision to not fight Benavidez next had left him “p****d off”. “I am pretty p****d off. I am very, very, p****d off about this,” Smith told ESPN’s First Take. “First of all, Charlo – and I am assuming this is the natural middleweight Charlo not the Charlo Canelo just beat – I openly root for him, I truly do. “He has had some personal issues which is why he has been away from the boxing game for so many years. We all know his little brother had no business in the ring with Canelo. “Simply because he was under size, moving up two weight classes to fight Canelo. The minute he hit him and realized he couldn’t affect him, all of a sudden Canelo started stalking him from the second round onwards for crying out loud. “We know that his bigger brother hasn’t been fighting very much so I am worried about that. “But here is the biggest reason that I am p****d off. Canelo Alvarez, it doesn’t matter who he fights, is going to get paid. We know the contingency that follows him are staying there in a cult-like manner and I say that in a complimentary fashion. “They love this man, they revere this man and they follow him wherever he goes. He is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, draws in boxing. Canelo Alvarez is spectacular. “But there is a dude by the name of David Benavidez who is a super-middleweight. He is 28-0 with 24 knockouts and he has been waiting for years to fight Canelo Alvarez and Canelo Alvarez has been avoiding him. “This is not right and this is the problem with boxing. This is why I love Dana White and the UFC. When the public clamors for a fight, you are going to fight that person. You are not going to be able to avoid them for years. “Boxing promoters hold fans hostage and make you wait for years. They are all guilty of it and I am sick of it.”

Shakur Stevenson hits back at Ryan Garcia’s dad over sensational knockout claim – Dexerto
Shakur Stevenson hits back at Ryan Garcia’s dad over sensational knockout claim Associated Press | Kingryan – InstagramShakur Stevenson’s latest social media attack came against Ryan Garcia’s dad, who issued out a bold claim regarding the potential outcome of a future fight between his son and Stevenson. Stevenson siezed the WBC lightweight championship from Edwin De Los Santos in his second fight at 135 pounds on November 16, 2023. The former lineal super featherweight champion has gone after many top fighters since proving himself in the division, including WBA lightweight champ Gervonta Davis. He also pressed Ryan Garcia to grant him a fight after his bout with Devin Haney during a clubhouse chat in March. ‘King Ry’ accepted Stevenson’s challenge by saying, “If I don’t get the rematch with Tank [Davis], you have my word, we’ll fight.” Garcia has vocalized who he wants to fight next following his stunning unanimous decision win over Haney, where he scored three knockdowns in rounds eight, 10 and 11. Yet, he has not mentioned Stevenson as a fighter he’s targeting. His father, Henry Garcia, has also been vocal following the upset victory. He issued strong words about Stevenson in an interview on Thaboxingvoice. “It would be the same result as Haney, and imma tell you why. We fought Shakur in the amateurs. People don’t know this, but we fought him in the amateurs. Ryan was only 16-years-old, maybe going on 17. We kicked his a** in the first round. But they were grooming this dude for the Olympics. So we fell short by two points. But we kicked his a**, and Shakur knows it,” the elder Garcia said when asked if his son would honor his word and give “Killer Kurr” a fight. “But I’ll tell you this much, Ryan fights Shakur, he’ll knock him out. Guarantee. Wobble him or knock him out.” Stevenson got fired up once he caught wind of those comments. He came back with this retort on X on the morning of April 24. “His old a** been hating on me for years tell em im ready whenever,” the lightweight contender wrote. Haney walked away from his fight with Garcia with a severely swollen face, accentuating the number “Ry” did on him with his power punches. Despite Haney shooting down rumors that the 25-year-old broke his jaw, “The Dream” has fallen out of top 10 pound-for-pound rankings. Therefore, “King Ryan’s” father making such a statement about Stevenson, who is a perfect 21-0 as a highly esteemed fighter rubbed the defensive specialist the wrong way. That said, Stevenson would have to jump up in weight again to take on the California native. The younger Garcia declared that he is done at 135 pounds and could be finished at 140 as well on the April 23 episode of the PBD podcast. He’s set on fighting Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz at welterweight. Stevenson’s camp could try to negotiate a bout at a catchweight around 143 pounds. But, adding an extra eight pounds for a fight against “The Flash” could be too much too soon.

Shakur Stevenson announces boxing retirement aged just 26 but some fans aren’t buying it – Dexerto
Shakur Stevenson announces boxing retirement aged just 26 but some fans aren’t buying it Sky Sports.Lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson has claimed he has retired from boxing at just 26 years of age. However, some fans aren’t convinced just yet. Stevenson is unbeaten with a fantastic record of 21-0 yet he announced he was finished with the sport in a social media post on Monday night. The American wrote on X: “I’m officially retiring from the sport of boxing I’ll be in the gym forever perfecting my craft and helping the next generation become great and chase they dreams but I ain’t [f****** with] this weak boxing game.” Stevenson was reacting to reports that the WBO has ordered Emanuel Navarrete and Denys Berinchyk to compete for the WBO lightweight title after it was vacated by Devin Haney. A move Stevenson described as ‘sickening’ and ‘disgusting’ in a previous tweet. The Olympic silver medalist has grown frustrated in the belief that the biggest competitors in his weight class are refusing to meet him in the ring. Vasily Lomachenko is facing off with George Kambosos Jr for the IBF title in May, leaving Stevenson without a significant opponent. Boxing fans have a theory Yet, a lot of boxing fans are not buying Stevenson’s proposed retirement when so many big-money matches are still on the table, pointing to the short-lived retirements of Tyson Fury and Teofimo Lopez as examples. Lopez announced a retirement plan last year but reversed his decision less than a month later when the WBO pushed him to follow through on his claim. Fury, meanwhile, has said he is retiring from the sport on numerous occasions only to pull the gloves back on. One fan wrote on X: “Tyson Fury, Teofimo Lopez and now Shakur Stevenson – another retirement that I’m sure will be short-lived.” “Shakur Stevenson’s shock retirement earlier today has already lasted longer than multiple Tyson Fury retirements,” another joked. One asked: “Will Shakur Stevenson’s retirement last longer than Teofimo Lopez’s 29.5 day retirement?” Another fan claimed Stevenson would be back before long: “Guarantee he’ll be fighting by next year. Shakur Stevenson is 26 & undefeated he tryna get the bag to come out of retirement.” Yet, another didn’t believe it at all: “I don’t buy the fact that Shakur Stevenson announced his retirement at 26 years old..”

Sean Strickland slams “pathetic” Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson game plan – Dexerto
Sean Strickland slams “pathetic” Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson game plan YouTube/Sean Strickland/NetflixSean Strickland has labeled Jake Paul’s fight with Mike Tyson as “pathetic” as the former UFC middleweight champion criticized the pair for coming up with a “game plan” to drum up interest in the fight. Tyson and Paul will go head-to-head on July, 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL‘s Dallas Cowboys. The fight will be streamed live on Netflix, with the likes of Tyson Fury praising the bout as being “fantastic for boxing“. Yet Strickland, 33, has disagreed with the Gypsy King, insisting that the 30-year age gap between the pair rules out any chance of a fair fight. Sean Strickland hits out at Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson Taking to social media, Strickland wrote: “Jake Paul and Mike Tyson game planning to hide the fact this is pathetic. “So we have to make people believe you [Tyson] have a chance, we have to make people believe that you’re not 60 [sic, 57] and this is isn’t the most pathetic thing I’ve ever done”.” When put to him that Tyson has a “puncher’s chance”, Strickland was categorical in his reply. “Naaa man,” he said. “He’s [Tyson’s] 60. You ever train with a 60-year-old?! Lmao I haven’t.” Strickland is not the only one who has been critical of the match-up between Paul and Tyson. Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, called the fight a “freak show” as he revealed that he may not even watch the bout. Rumors that the fight would see Paul and Tyson were headguards threatened to derail interest in the fight, something that Paul admitted his frustration as to how the “absurd” news was spread in the first place.

Sean Strickland reveals Jake Paul’s $1 million fight offer was blocked by UFC – Dexerto
Sean Strickland reveals Jake Paul’s $1 million fight offer was blocked by UFC YouTube: Sean Strickland/imPaulsiveFormer UFC Middleweight champion Sean Strickland has explained how the MMA promotion shut down any idea of him fighting Jake Paul after the YouTuber-turned-boxer offered him $1 million to spar. Since stepping into the world of boxing, Jake Paul has gone after fighters from all different disciplines. He’s verbally sparred with some of the biggest boxers in the world, including Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, but he’s also gone after MMA stars. The ‘Problem Child’ has repeatedly clashed with Conor McGregor, Dana White, and Nate Diaz as he’s built up his boxing record with wins over former UFC fighters. Most recently, he’s been engaged in a war of words with Sean Strickland after he beat up Sneako in a sparring session. Jake went so far as offering the former UFC Middleweight champion $1 million to spar him ahead of his March 2 return to the ring against Ryan Bourland. However, according to Strickland, the UFC intervened and shut down that payday. Sean Strickland reveals UFC shut down $1 million Jake Paul fight The 32-year-old, who has repeatedly clashed with Jake on social media, took to his YouTube channel on February 12 to lay out why he won’t be fighting the YouTuber-turned-boxer anytime soon, despite the massive offer. “So, Jake Paul offered me $1 million knowing that it is impossible for me to do that. I actually talked to Hunter (UFC’s Chief Business Officer). I was like, Hunter, I will fight this man. You let Conor McGregor fight Mayweather, this is an easier fight, easier money, can I do that? Hunter explained to me that he sells no fights. When they have fights, they give away tickets, he doesn’t make money, his target audience is children, and they don’t buy pay-per-views,” the UFC Middleweight said. “So, a little depressing, because I thought to myself ‘I’ll take a payday beating up this f*cking man’, seems easy enough.” Timestamp of 17:34 Strickland further added that Jake “clearly knows” that the two are unable to fight for money anytime soon, but urged him to fly to Las Vegas for a “little powwow.” “You know as well as I know, what happens in that,” he continued. “I’ll do it for free, I don’t need a check, I don’t need to live stream it. I will do it for free sir. So if that’s something you want, you want to show everyone how big and hard that d*ck is, let me know when.”

Sean Strickland calls Jake Paul “disgrace of a man” for Mike Tyson fight – Dexerto
Sean Strickland calls Jake Paul “disgrace of a man” for Mike Tyson fight Associated PressSean Strickland ripped into Jake Paul’s upcoming boxing match with 57-year-old Mike Tyson, calling Paul a “disgrace of a man.” Strickland is an often-polarizing MMA fighter who calls out his peers at will, never feeling the need to hold back his true thoughts. In an interview with The Schmo, Strickland went off on Paul, criticizing his choice to fight an aging Mike Tyson, calling it “bull****.” Sean Strickland calls Jake Paul “scum” Strickland asked, “How old is Mike Tyson? 60? 57? Jake Paul, you are a disgrace of a man. You are the epitome of weakness; you are the scum of the Earth. “The fact that you even have a platform or anything of that nature is a slight on society. You truly make me f****** disgusted. “And if I ever encounter you in real life, I hope I just don’t lose my s*** and go to prison.” Paul fans and Strickland detractors quickly rushed to the boxer’s defense, claiming this was an instance of the pot calling the kettle black. One X user also brought up Strickland’s recent beatdown of Sneako as another example of hypocrisy. Another fan says Strickland has no business calling anyone out after he “ducked” a previous Jake Paul sparring session. It surely won’t be the last time Strickland and Paul come to verbal blows. Some fans are still proposing a potential fight down the line. After the two entertained a scrum earlier this year, Strickland claimed that the UFC shut it down, making a future match unlikely, barring unforeseen changes. Until then, Strickland will continue throwing jabs in the media at the rising boxing star. As his fans know, Paul isn’t shy about barking back, either.

Salt Papi next fight: King Kenny showdown and fiery rematch among options – Dexerto
Salt Papi next fight: King Kenny showdown and fiery rematch among options Misfits BoxingSalt Papi faces an interesting choice for his next fight following his victory over Amadeusz Ferrari at Misfits Boxing’s Series 14 main event. Salt Papi (Nathaniel Bustamante) returned to winning ways in London after he defeated Polish MMA fighter Ferrari. The social media star now has a choice to make regarding his next fight, with two clear options leading the way for the 30-year-old. Contents: Salt Papi’s next fight Influencer boxing star Salt Papi has been called out by King Kenny, but a possible rematch with Ferrari is also on the cards. “A lot of people want me to fight Salt,” KingKenny told Misfits Boxing. “If the money’s right, the event’s right, the weight – then I’ll do it.” Talks of a rematch with Ferrari also arose after the fight, with Salt Papi stating that he would be happy to travel to Poland for the possible bout. Although no official confirmation of his next fight has yet been issued, it seems likely that fans will either be treated to a rematch with Ferrari or a bout with Kenny. Salt Papi’s last fight The TikTok and Youtube star got the better of Amadeusz Ferrari the last time he stepped into the ring, atoning for defeats against Slim Albaher and Anthony Taylor in his two previous fights. Salt Papi withstood a blistering start from his opponent and finished the round strong, securing a knockdown in the final 10 seconds. Ferrari’s attempt to make the fight dirty – the Pole was deducted points in both the second and third for leading with his head – were to no avail, as he ultimately did not get up from his corner at the start of the fourth round, handing Salt Papi the win. Salt Papi’s boxing record Overall, Salt Papi’s boxing record stands at four wins and two losses across his six fights in total. He has recorded two knockout victories (Andy Warski and Josh Brueckner) along the way and been on the receiving end of a technical knockout defeat at the hands of Slim Albaher, with the referee stepping in. Ryan Garcia wants to agree reduced boxing ban over drug contamination claim – Dexerto
Ryan Garcia wants to agree reduced boxing ban over drug contamination claim Associated PressRyan Garcia and his team are seeking a compromise with the boxing commission after discovering that two supplements were contaminated before his fight with Devin Haney. Garcia stunned the boxing world by defeating the previously undefeated Haney during their April 20 match in Brooklyn, New York. However, news broke soon after, stating that Garcia had tested positive for a banned substance known as Ostarine, casting doubt on his victory. The 25-year-old immediately attempted to discredit the negative test, claiming that it was nothing more than supplement contamination to blame. According to Garcia’s legal team, the latest development in the whirlwind saga provided a glimmer of hope for the Victorville, California native. In a statement released by Paul Greene, Garcia’s legal representative, he said the following: “The test results from samples of two supplements declared by Ryan Garcia on VADA Doping Control Forms, signed on April 19th and 20th, have returned positive for Ostarine contamination. “This confirms what we have consistently maintained: Ryan was a victim of supplement contamination and has never intentionally used any banned or performance-enhancing substances. “Any claims to the contrary, questioning Ryan’s integrity as a clean fighter, are unequivocally false and defamatory. “Throughout his career, Ryan has voluntarily submitted to numerous tests, all of which have returned negative results, underscoring his commitment to fair and clean competition. “Additionally, multiple negative tests leading up to his fight against Haney further affirm his clean record. “The ultra-low levels of Ostarine detected in his samples, in the billionth of a gram range, along with his clean hair sample, proves contamination rather than intentional ingestion. “The recent test results reiterate this. A press conference will be held next week to provide more insight and answer questions.” Later, Greene declared that they were communicating with the boxing commission and hoping to reach a compromise on Garcia’s potential sanction. “We understand Ryan’s going to get some kind of sanction, but we feel like, given this evidence, now it should be a light sanction.” Greene mentioned that their goal is for the sanction to last “four months or less” so the fighter can put this behind him and resume his career. Garcia, 25, has an impressive 25-1 record in the ring. But it is unclear if the commission will overturn his most recent victory over Haney.

Ryan Garcia threatens legal action as fresh doubt cast on Devin Haney fight – Dexerto
Ryan Garcia threatens legal action as fresh doubt cast on Devin Haney fight Associated PressRyan Garcia has threatened the New York boxing commission with legal action ahead of his mega fight against Devin Haney next month. Garcia is slated to challenge Haney for his WBC super-lightweight world title on April 20 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. But the build up to the fight has descended into chaos in recent weeks, with a number of bizarre posts and incidents occurring on Garcia’s social media. New York Boxing Commission want to make Garcia evaluation The 25-year-old has spouted a number of conspiracy theories and a disturbing post shared on Twitter earlier this month sparked concern among boxing fans over his mental welfare. Garcia’s team have insisted he is in a position for the fight to go ahead but, according to Garcia, the New York Boxing Commission want to make their own evaluation before sanctioning the bout. “I’m going to sue the NYC Commission and this is why,” Garcia said during a live stream on social media. “They’re trying to challenge me for a mental evaluation. “I said: ‘Okay, what is your premise for the mental evaluation?’ They said: ‘Well your tweets and your posts.’ I said: ‘Is it not my US constitutional right to have free speech?’ “Because I’m tweeting what I’m tweeting that’s premise for a mental evaluation? That’s curious, so now you’re trying to mess with my constitutional rights. Now I’m going to sue you, I’m going to sue you for defamation of character actually. “They won’t test Mike Tyson if he fought in New York, but they will test me. Sounds a little fishy to me. And I love Mike, Mike loves me. I can’t wait for them to actually take me to court, because I will literally defeat them.” Since Garcia posted this video, his social media accounts appear to have been deactivated. As things stand, the fight is still set to go ahead as normal next month.

Ryan Garcia threatens Conor McGregor and accuses him of taking steroids – Dexerto
Ryan Garcia threatens Conor McGregor and accuses him of taking steroids Associated PressFormer UFC champion Conor McGregor sent a scathing social media post toward Ryan Garcia, and now the 25-year-old boxing star has issued his own menacing response. Ryan Garcia, fresh off a shocking victory against the previously undefeated Devin Haney, failed pre and post-fight drug tests for their April 20 bout. The lead-up to the fight itself was also marred in controversy after Garcia failed to make weight and thus became ineligible to compete for Haney’s WBC junior welterweight title. According to the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association report, Garcia had Ostarine in his system, which is one of the banned drugs on boxing’s performance-enhancing list. Conor McGregor, never shy to share his opinion on combat sports, ripped into Garcia on social media. ‘Mystic Mac’ said he was “sad and a bit sick” upon hearing the news. In the now-deleted post on X, the 35-year-old McGregor called for a lifetime ban from boxing for Garcia before challenging the polarizing fighter to a sparring match. Although McGregor deleted the post soon after sending it out, Garcia still saw it. And in his latest response online, the boxing star promised violence. “If I see Conor McGregor, I’m going to break your weak a** ankle,” Garcia said on X. He then accused McGregor of being on steroids, claiming it’s the reason he’s been away from the UFC for so long. In a later video, Garcia continued prodding at McGregor. “I’ll knock Conor McGregor out bad. I’ll let him take steroids, and I’ll still show you.” This accusation by Garcia comes only weeks before McGregor’s anticipated return to the octagon at UFC 303. The Irishman will challenge Michael Chandler in his first fight for the promotion in nearly three years. As for Garcia, the 25-year-old maintains his innocence, saying that he’s “never taken steroids in his life.” Instead, he believes an herbal supplement called Ashwagandha Root caused the failed test. The boxing commission will conduct a thorough investigation to confirm the results of Garcia’s two failed drug tests. Until then, the 25-1 boxer calls it “fake f****** news.”

Ryan Garcia sparks concern after disturbing video as ex-wife says he’s not OK John LocherRyan Garcia has sparked concern among his fans and fellow boxers after a disturbing video was posted to his X account. The video footage is shaky, but it shows an unidentifiable man in a six second clip, with the following message written over it: ”We got him boys. RYAN GARCIA RIP B***H. 666. Video is exactly 666 in time. WE TOLD YOU WE WERE COMING.” The message is then followed by a stream of random letters and a mention of Satan and the video is accompanied by a graphic tweet which reads: “MARCH 3 SUNDAY 2024 we slit RG THROAT AND THRU HIM IN A BASKET NOBODY WILL FIND HIM BSABJANANANANANAJQKA ANAIQNANSBSNANABA A SNSNSNWKWNA S ANANSNSN SATAN SITTING AT THE TOP NOW. 666.” Garcia’s ex-wife expresses concern It follows a stream of erratic behavior from Garcia all week during the press tour for his upcoming fight with Devin Haney. The 25-year-old claimed to be “high as f**k” on Twitter Spaces and also admitted to drinking and smoking cannabis in a fiery press conference in Los Angeles. Garcia arrived at said press conference on a horse and then controversially released sparring footage of Haney and Gervonta Davis when Haney was only 17. He also called out Jake Paul following his win on Saturday. But the disturbing video has sparked concern among the boxing community ahead of such a dangerous fight and his ex-wife, Andrea Celina, took to Instagram to express her concerns. “If all my followers who are believers can you please pray for Ryan,” she wrote on her Instagram story. “We are not together and I’ve been in contact with him and he may seen fine but he is not. I know in my heart he is being heavily oppressed. “This is not a troll, I’m genuinely concerned and so is all his family members. We are not part of any of this and want him to get better but this IS REAL. Pray for him.” Garcia’s dad posts update His father, Henry Garcia, provided an update on Instagram as he replied to a fan’s concern by saying: “Yes. Ryan is ok, he’s just trolling the wrong way.” Garcia is yet to post another update on social media since those worrying messages and his promoters, Golden Boy Boxing, are yet to comment on the matter. His fight with Haney is scheduled to take place on April 20 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Ryan Garcia reveals next opponent after Oscar De La Hoya and Jose Ramirez confusion – Dexerto
Ryan Garcia reveals next opponent after Oscar De La Hoya and Jose Ramirez confusion John LocherBoxing star Ryan Garcia has confirmed his next fight after confusion reigned over his next move last week. Garcia dismissed the notion his next fight will be against Jose Ramirez, despite promoter Oscar De La Hoya suggesting as much. De La Hoya took to X last week to announce a fight between Garcia and the former unified super-lightweight world champion was ‘getting close and happening’. Garcia is rebuilding at super-lightweight after a crushing loss for the WBA lightweight world title to Gervonta Davis last year and a fight with Ramirez, a former champion, was seen as a big test of his credentials at 140 pounds. However, Garcia crushed talk of a fight with the former US Olympian and has now announced his next fight will be for the WBA super-lightweight world championship, against champion Rolly Romero. Ryan Garcia bidding for first world title belt Taking to X on Wednesday, ‘King Ry’ has said he will take on Romero for world honours on Saturday, April 20. He tweeted: “4-20 Live on @daznboxing PPV Tickets and Location soon. It’s time To enter battle once again. I understand that there has been a lot of confusion but this fight is happening. “I’m happy to announce this. Everyone is going to post this soon don’t worry. I love you guys. COMMENT WHAT YOU THINK. #GarciavsRomero“ A fight between the pair has long been mooted and the hype was amplified after both men suffered their only professional loss to Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis. Romero captured the vacant WBA world title last year with a controversial stoppage win over Ismael Barroso in Las Vegas. Now Garcia will look to win his first world title, after long being touted as a future world champion, in what is arguably a bigger fight for him than the originally slated Ramirez bout.

Ryan Garcia next opponent revealed by boxing promoter Oscar De La Hoya – Dexerto
Ryan Garcia next opponent revealed by boxing promoter Oscar De La Hoya John LocherBoxing superstar Ryan Garcia’s next opponent has been revealed by his Golden Boy Promotions promoter Oscar De La Hoya. Having previously held an interim world lightweight title with the WBC, Garcia is now rebuilding at super-lightweight following a crushing loss to Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis in April last year. The 25-year-old returned to the ring in December with an impressive eighth-round stoppage of Oscar Duarte and now the plan is to step up the competition as ‘King Ry’ looks to build towards world honors at 140 pounds. Garcia’s promoter, former six-weight world champion Oscar De La Hoya, took to X on Wednesday to confirm a fight with former unified super-lightweight world champion Jose Ramirez is ‘getting close and happening’. Ramirez will prove an acid test of Garcia’s credentials While Garcia has long been heralded as a future world champion and superstar of the sport, Ramirez has been there and done it and will prove a huge test of Garcia’s ambitions at super-lightweight. The 31-year-old is a former US Olympian and previously held the WBC and WBO super-lightweight world titles. He challenged Britain’s Josh Taylor to become the undisputed super-lightweight world champion in 2021 but was dropped to the canvas twice in a unanimous decision defeat. That remains the only blemish on his record, though, and he has since rebuilt with two impressive wins over former world champions Jose Pedraza and Richard Commey. Ramirez recently inked a promotional deal with Golden Boy after his deal with Top Rank came to an end and now De La Hoya is planning on pitting two of his prized assets against one another in a mega fight this year.

Ryan Garcia makes Gervonta Davis claim as build up for Devin Haney fight spices up – Dexerto
Ryan Garcia makes Gervonta Davis claim as build up for Devin Haney fight spices up Twitter/Ryan GarciaRyan Garcia and Devin Haney wasted no time in laying hands on each other after confirmation of their blockbuster bout on April 20. Garcia and Haney will meet in Las Vegas in a couple of months, with the WBC super lightweight title on the line. Just a day after the fight was confirmed, Garcia shared a video of the pair squaring up and engaging in typical boxing trash talk. The trash-talking begins After accusing Haney’s dad of ‘pimping’ his son out, Garcia soon moved on to talk about the famous Haney-Gervonta Davis sparring session from a few years ago. Garcia said: “We’ve seen that video when Tank beat your ass, Floyd showed me and he had your ass like… I’ve seen the video, I’ve seen the video, I’ve seen the video.” Haney responded: “I’d beat the s*** out of Tank and I’d beat the s*** out of you, I’d beat the s*** out of you.” The following video contains offensive language Although there is no footage of the sparring session in question, Davis and others have previously claimed that ‘Tank’ did indeed rock Haney. Two years ago, Davis said: “It was more so of, back and forth, and then once I got tired, it was like a little, he picked up like a little bit. But it was nothing like crazy, like boom, boom, boom. I don’t even talk about like, I caught him in the sparring match and almost knocked him out. “Like Adrien (Broner) jumped in the ring and like nah it’s over and everybody was just about to fight. Because I caught him and almost knocked him out.” Adrien Broner recalled the sparring session last year, saying: “He sparred Devin. It’s packed as hot, they get in there. ‘Tank’ hit him, he hit him… boom! Then he hit him again and he like went out. I jumped in the ring, because at the time Devin was 17. “Once they got going, Devin got the best of him, but in a real fight time, with 8oz gloves… bye!”

Ryan Garcia loses outlandish $500k bet one day before Devin Haney fight – Dexerto
Ryan Garcia loses outlandish $500k bet one day before Devin Haney fight Associated PressRyan Garcia bet Devin Haney he’d make weight for their WBC super lightweight championship bout on April 20. But the pre-fight weigh-ins the day before said otherwise. Both boxing stars were mandated to weigh 140 pounds when they hit the scales. Ryan Garcia, however, came in at 143.2 pounds, which now comes with serious ramifications. As such, the Golden Boy’s premier fighter is no longer eligible to win the WBC belt even if he defeats Devin Haney on fight night. Even worse, he now owes a significant portion of his fight purse, win-or-lose, to the current No. 1 ranked fighter in the division. At their last press conference, Garcia bet Haney that he’d see the three required digits on the scale and, if not, he’d cough up $500,000 for every excess pound. That math shows the California native is now in the hole for $1.5 million to Haney. Garcia will reportedly honor their handshake bet, as MMA Fighting shared on X. Garcia, the former WBC interim lightweight title holder, has fought at catchweight in his last two fights against Oscar Duarte and Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis. He weighed in at the same 143 pounds against Duarte. This instance is not Garcia’s first time losing a pre-fight bet, either. He and Davis agreed to put up their entire fight purse for whoever lost their boxing match. However, ‘Tank’ allowed Garcia to keep his earnings after scoring a seventh-round KO. With the stakes of Garcia vs Haney now diminished, the focus will be on how Garcia performs amid the disappointing news. A victory against a top-ranked boxer would still exponentially boost his credibility amongst fans.

Ryan Garcia hits out at Oscar De La Hoya and Devin Haney as he dismisses next opponent reveal – Dexerto
Ryan Garcia hits out at Oscar De La Hoya and Devin Haney as he dismisses next opponent reveal John LocherRyan Garcia has dismissed the notion his next fight will be against Jose Ramirez, despite promoter Oscar De La Hoya suggesting as much. De La Hoya took to X earlier this week to announce a fight between Garcia and the former unified super-lightweight world champion was ‘getting close and happening’. Garcia is rebuilding at super-lightweight after a crushing loss for the WBA lightweight world title to Gervonta Davis last year and a fight with Ramirez, a former champion, was seen as a big test of his credentials at 140 pounds. However, ‘King Ry’ has taken to social media himself to rule that fight out of the equation as he posted on X: “No Ramirez. Let’s make that clear.” Garcia hits out at Haney and De La Hoya Another mooted opponent for Garcia is former unified lightweight world champion and current WBC super-lightweight champion Devin Haney. Responding to Garcia’s tweet ruling out a fight with Ramirez, Haney couldn’t resist firing a taunt towards his rival, tweeting: “U scared to death of me.” Former six-weight world champion De La Hoya saw the funny side and replied: “@RyanGarcia just please do not hit me in my abs, I just got them done.” Despite Garcia’s protestations, though, De La Hoya continued to talk up a fight with Ramirez, who he has just signed on a promotional basis as well, on X. In an exchange with one fan, De La Hoya described the potential fight as a ‘great matchup’ and responded ‘yes’ to another tweet which read: “Pretty good fight. [Ramirez was] Competitive with Taylor, glad they ain’t forcing Ryan back.”

Ryan Garcia drug test scandal explained: Reduced boxing ban timeline set out – Dexerto
Ryan Garcia drug test scandal explained: Reduced boxing ban timeline set out Associated PressRyan Garcia’s legal team have insisted that the boxer should be given a reduced ban after his A and B samples both came back positive for the performance-enhancing drug ostarine, following the shock win against Devin Haney. Haney went into the fight with Garcia on Saturday, April 20, as the clear favorite. But ‘King Ry’ stunned the world as he floored ‘The Dream’ three times during the bout, securing a majority decision win. However, a positive test for ostarine – a PED used to build body mass and muscle – has now threatened to not only overthrow the victory, but also bring a lengthy ban for the 25-year-old. What is Ostarine? Ostarine is a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) that attaches to proteins in the body to signal for muscles to grow. It is, in essence, a substance used to build muscles and speed up the rate at which fat is burnt. It also has the added benefits of aiding recovery rates and increasing stamina levels. The World Anti-Doping Agency has listed ostarine as a banned substance since 2008 and it was classified as an anabolic agent (steroid) by WADA in 2022. Both Garcia and Haney were tested before the fight as they gave urine samples that were split up into A and B-samples. Has Ryan Garcia tested positive for it? Yes, both Garcia’s A and B samples have tested positive for Ostarine. After the A-sample came back, a second test was done to ensure that there was no human error or contamination in the lab when the first results were issued. The urine samples, given the day before his win over longtime rival Haney, were opened and tested on May 22, where Garcia’s attorney, Darin Chavez, was present. Those B-samples have now also returned positive. Garcia also originally tested positive for 19-Norandrosterone (another banned substance, categorized as an anabolic steroid), something which further testing cleared him for. Ryan Garcia statement “Everybody knows that I don’t cheat,” Garcia said in a video posted on X. “Never taken a steroid. … I don’t even know where to get steroids. … I barely take supplements. Big lies, I beat his a**.” After requesting the B-samples be tested, he then took to social media again to state that the levels of Ostarine found in his A-sample had a “level so low [that it] wouldn’t have any effect.” However, ostarine has a zero-tolerance threshold by WADA. This means that, unlike other substances, even the smallest traces of the PED will to lead a failed test. “Ryan Garcia is committed to clean and fair competition and has never intentionally used any banned substance,” Garcia’s legal team said. “Ryan has voluntarily submitted to tests throughout his career, which have always shown negative results. “We are certain that one of the natural supplements Ryan was using in the lead up to the fight will prove to be contaminated and are in the process of testing the supplements to determine the exact source.” His team believe that hair samples will prove that Garcia was the “victim” of “supplement contamination”. Devin Haney responds Devin Haney responded, calling the statement released by Garcia’s team into question. “Ryan & his team knew he would test positive,” Haney said on X. ”That’s why they did a BS ‘hair test’ on their own, which who really knows if they did it.” Later, Devin’s father, Bill Haney, went live via his Instagram account to shoot down the statement. “Cheaters don’t prosper. We signed up for a fair fight and didn’t get it. He’s a cheater.” The Haney camp is calling for the result of the match to be overturned, granting Devin the victory via disqualification and removing the lone loss from his boxing record. Will Ryan Garcia be banned? Garcia’s fate now rests in the hands of the New York Boxing Commission, and his team have insisted that a sanction, if any, should be a shortened one. “The test results from samples of two supplements declared by Ryan Garcia on VADA Doping Control Forms, signed on April 19th and 20th, have returned positive for ostarine contamination,” a statement released by Paul Greene, Garcia’s legal representative, began. “We understand Ryan’s going to get some kind of sanction, but we feel like, given this evidence, now it should be a light sanction.” How long could Garcia be banned for? Former light-welterweight world champion, Amir Khan, was hit with a two-year ban from the sport after he tested positive for ostarine following his TKO defeat to Kell Brook in 2022. Lucian Bute, the former IBF super-middleweight champion, saw his draw with Badou Jack in 2016 changed from a draw to a DQ win for Jack after he also tested positive for ostarine. It is unclear at this stage whether his win over Devin Haney in April 2024 will be overruled. For all the biggest results and upcoming fights this year, check out Dexerto’s 2024 boxing schedule.

Ryan Garcia claims he would rematch Devin Haney under one condition – Dexerto
Ryan Garcia claims he would rematch Devin Haney under one condition PBD podcast – YouTubeRyan Garcia addressed the likelihood of facing Devin Haney in a rematch after soundly defeating him in their super lightweight bout on April 20. Ryan Garcia came away with a majority decision victory on the back of three knockdowns he scored against the reigning WBC champion, Devin Haney, at 140 pounds. His upset win sent shockwaves throughout the boxing world. However, the California native was disqualified from winning the belt after missing weight by more than three pounds a day before the fight. Nevertheless, the 25-year-old holds all the cards at the moment and would only entertain another match vs Haney once ‘The Dream’ puts the word out that he’s well enough to box again. Garcia said as much to Patrick Bet-David on his ‘PBD podcast‘ on April 23. “Not until he recovers. We’ve got to know if he’s okay. Cause I heard I broke his jaw.” He believes the reasons for victory go further than Haney not being on his level as a boxer, including the champ’s injured jaw and Garcia’s insistence on moving up in weight. It all played a part in the win, he says. In fact, Garcia declared that the former undisputed lightweight champion is a more formidable opponent than Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis. He rolled with his most recent competitor when asked who would win between the two. “I know, boxing is a wild sport,” Garcia remarked. “[Haney] beats [Davis], out of just pure volume, and just knows how to use his reach. ‘Tank’ will try to hurt him, but I don’t think he would get to Haney.” Whether or not Haney and Davis square up next, Garcia made it clear that he wants ‘Tank’ more than any other boxer. However, he noted that Floyd Mayweather pumped the breaks on a match in 2024, giving him a year-and-a-half to two-year timeline to run it back. He cited that his team at Golden Boy Promotions is in preliminary talks with Saudi Arabian boxing brass to make his next fight happen at a major event slated for August as he still awaits the next challenger. Garcia asserted that he wants to face boxers Sebastian Fundora and Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz at some point, and he’s recently traded verbal jabs with UFC champion Sean O’Malley. The 25-1 fighter said one thing is certain: He’s never going back down to 136 pounds. Instead, he’s strongly entertaining moving up to welterweight, which would open the door to new feuds for the rising star.

Ryan Garcia claims Addison Rae “wanted” him in clash with Bryce Hall – Dexerto
Ryan Garcia claims Addison Rae “wanted” him in clash with Bryce Hall Instagram: addisonraee / YouTube: True GeordiePro boxer Ryan Garcia says TikTok star Addison Rae was down bad for him as he clashes with Bryce Hall in the latest viral spat between influencers and combat sports pros. Addison Rae and Bryce Hall were once the ‘it-couple’ of TikTok — but the pair’s on-again, off-again relationship quickly dissolved, and Rae has been publicly dating guitarist Omer Fedi since August 2021. That isn’t stopping others from bringing up the TikToker’s past relationship with Bryce, though, which found itself in the spotlight once again amid pro boxer Ryan Garcia’s ongoing feud with Hall. Over the past 24 hours, Hall and Garcia have been trading verbal blows over social media. Their spat started over a legal battle between Garcia’s father and Hall, who is suing the TikToker, as well as Tayler Holder and Nate Wyatt, for supposedly failing to pay up for their training fees. Garcia is demanding $10K from Hall, which he claimed he would pay in a series of heated back-and-forth tweets… but it looks like this is prime fodder for yet another potential influencer-boxing match. Ryan Garcia takes shots at Bryce Hall by bringing up Addison Rae In fact, Hall claimed he’s been trying to send over the $10K for a year, and even exposed his Instagram messages with the boxer in a string of tweets on February 12. “Ryan’s a little cry baby twat complaining about $10k trying to sue me for it,” Hall wrote. “Brother, you think I don’t have $10k to just send you right now? Respond to my private message and we can handle it instead of using Twitter as a therapy session.” It wasn’t long before Garcia posted more private messages with Hall — in one of which he mentioned Hall’s ex-girlfriend, Addison Rae. “I know why you really mad,” Garcia wrote. “Addison really f*cked with me, though.” “Bro’s using my ex as a way to get under my skin,” Hall shot back. “Creative.” Addison wasn’t the only TikToker to get caught in the crossfire in this unexpected feud; Hall also appeared to take shots at Charli D’Amelio after Garcia posted a video of himself with the social media star. Thus far, neither Addison nor Charli have weighed in on this ongoing spat, and it’s unclear if these two will end up settling their differences in court or in the boxing ring… but given Hall’s simultaneous beef with Sean Strickland, it looks like the sky’s the limit for Hall’s potential combat sports career.

Ryan Garcia calls out “disrespectful” Sneako and challenges him to fight – Dexerto
Ryan Garcia calls out “disrespectful” Sneako and challenges him to fight Associated Press; YouTube: Jynxzi PodcastRyan Garcia and Sneako are coming to blows on social media as Garcia threatens to beat up the famous streamer worse than Sean Strickland did. Sneako famously called out Sean Strickland for a sparring match earlier in the year, and it ended in a bloody nose for the Internet personality. After recent comments from Sneako, Ryan Garcia, another polarizing fighter, wants to have a spar. He clipped a video to his X account and threatened violence toward Sneako if the two ever meet up in the ring. Garcia referenced Sneako’s previous sparring session with Strickland and promised to “do him worse” than that. Garcia says, “I’m going to do you worse than Sean Strickland. I’m going to knock you out cold.” After saying he wouldn’t cuss, Garcia immediately went back on it during his call out. “You could come see me, please. A spar, you can put the cameras on; I’m going to knock you the f*** out.” In the Strickland scrum, as mentioned above, Sneako was brutally beaten and never stood a chance against a legitimate ranked UFC fighter. Sneako has since engaged in training camps with other combat sports veterans, most notably Nate Diaz, who has taken him under his wing. The popular streamer even canceled a previously planned training session with Jorge Masvidal, citing his growing relationship with Masvidal’s rival Diaz as the reason why. However, according to Garcia, a boxer holding a 24-1 career record, he isn’t impressed by Sneako or the Diaz training camps. If the two ever meet for a spar or match, Garcia promises to put Sneako to sleep.

Ryan Garcia calls out “coward” Logan Paul and promises to destroy him – Dexerto
Ryan Garcia calls out “coward” Logan Paul and promises to destroy him Instagram: kingryan / Instagram: loganpaulBoxing star Ryan Garcia has taken aim at Logan Paul, calling the social media celeb-turned WWE wrestler a “coward” while vowing to “destroy” him if they should cross paths. Ryan Garcia has had a busy start to 2024. Pulling off an all-time ‘troll’ job to overwhelm the undefeated Devin Haney, The Flash just had his best performance in the boxing ring. Handing Haney his first loss, and in devastating fashion with three knockdowns, the 25-year-old proved his doubters wrong. Though in an appearance on the PBD Podcast following the bout, it wasn’t all talk about his future opponents. Rather, Garcia pivoted the conversation to focus on a former friend-turned foe, Logan Paul. While the pair previously trained together, along with Jake Paul too, it’s evident they’re not on the best of terms these days. Garcia lashed out against both Logan Paul and his Prime Hydration business partner KSI, calling them “cowards” while vowing to “destroy” the WWE superstar if they crossed paths again. Ryan Garcia calls out Logan Paul at the 39:08 timestamp below. “Prime tastes like s***,” Garcia said bluntly as podcast host Patrick Bet-David began discussing the profits of the beverage enterprise KSI and Logan Paul have built. The American boxer was having none of it. “Those dudes are whack, bro. They’re leechers,” he said. “They don’t stand for nothing, they’re puppets and at the end of the day, I don’t like people like that. Culture vultures.” Going on to label them “cowards” and “demons in the flesh,” among other adjectives, Garcia then outlined his history with the Paul brothers. And despite calling Jake “the homie” and praising his recent boxing efforts, there’s nothing but ill will towards Logan. “Would you fight him?” Bet-David asked. “I’d do worse,” Garcia responded without hesitation. “I would destroy Logan Paul.” It was only a few years ago, in preparation for Logan’s fight with Floyd Mayweather, that Garcia actually stepped in the ring with Logan. Helping him train with some light sparring, he claims to have outright “taught [Logan] how to box.” “I’ve already sparred him. He didn’t hurt me once. He was way bigger than me and I was whooping his ass.” On paper, this should come as no surprise. Garcia began boxing at the age of seven and before turning pro, amassed a ton of experience through a whopping 230 amateur fights, of which he only lost 15. At the time of their sparring session, Garcia was an undefeated prospect with a dozen pro wins under his belt, most coming by way of knockout. In comparison, Logan Paul had only boxed KSI by that stage, with their first contest a draw, and the rematch going KSI’s way.

Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney trade insults over New York venue dispute – Dexerto
Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney trade insults over New York venue dispute Instagram: Ryan Garcia/YouTube: DAZNBoxing rivals Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia have been at loggerheads on social media over a venue dispute ahead of their April 20 fight. Haney will put his WBC super-lightweight world title on the line against his long time rival, as they meet for the first time in the professional ranks. The pair fought six times as amateurs, winning three fights each, with Garcia dubbing their highly anticipated fight as “Game 7” as they bid to earn the bragging rights over one another. New York venue causes controversy It was announced this week that the fight would be taking place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. However, it was initially thought the bout would take place in Las Vegas and that sentiment was shared by Garcia, who took to social media to express his wish for the fight to take place on the Nevada strip. “This is an MGM Vegas fight, doing everything we can to bring this fight to Vegas and giving this fight what it deserves,” Garcia wrote on X. “This decision has nothing to do with NYC and everything to do with business and what I believe is the best move for my career.” However, Haney took issue with Garcia’s view and suggested his rival was already “planning his escape” from the fight. But Garcia fired back: “Why are you trying to paint that picture to the public, towards the guy who is making you more money in your life and in your entire career – sad to see.” Haney then explained why the fight won’t be happening in Vegas, as he added: “The reason the fight is not happening in Vegas is because they don’t want to affect Canelo ticket sales.” The build-up to the mega fight was already expected to be full of spice and two months out, the venue debacle has only added to the intrigue.

Ryan Garcia admits being “high” in interview as Devin Haney calls him a time-waster – Dexerto
Ryan Garcia admits being “high” in interview as Devin Haney calls him a time-waster Happy PunchDevin Haney said he will not be attending the Los Angeles leg of his press conference tour with Ryan Garcia. Haney and Garcia are scheduled to meet in the ring in New York on April 20 and the build-up to the fight has shown there is no love lost between the pair. The first press conference took place in New York on Tuesday, when Haney claimed he could smell alcohol on Garcia’s breath during the face-off, calling him an “alcoholic” and a “drunk”. Second press conference due to take place in LA The pair are scheduled to meet again in LA on Thursday but Haney said on social media that he won’t be there after Garcia joined a Space on X and claimed to be “high as f***”. Garcia was asked by the Space host: “How do you feel about them trying to spin a narrative that you’re an alcoholic?” And he responded by saying: “I know so many stories of top athletes in the world that do crazier sh*t than me and be the best in the world. I’m not a dry snitch, so I won’t say anything. At the end of the day… I box, smoke weed, drink… and I’m the best.” A clearly unimpressed Haney wrote: “I’m not going to that press conference tomorrow. This dude Ryan wasting mine and everyone’s time.” The press conference is due to start at 9pm GMT (1pm PT/4pm ET) and that’s when we’ll find out of Haney is true to his word. During the New York conference, both men delivered confident statements about their chances on fight night. Garcia, whose only career loss came against Gervonta Davis last year, said: “This is a big opportunity for me. I want to go for legacy and belts, Devin is in the way and I’m on my vengeance arc. I’m coming straight for his neck I promise you that.” Haney, meanwhile, said: “This is going to be a hell of an event. We’ve seen Ryan quit before and take a knee before. On April 20th it will be no different. DAZN have put the bounty up, and on April 20th I’m capturing the bounty and coming home with the victory.”

Roy Jones Jr. wants to fight KSI on one condition – Dexerto
Roy Jones Jr. wants to fight KSI on one condition Instagram: drinkprime / YouTube: RealLyfe ProductionsBoxing legend Roy Jones Jr. says he’s down to fight YouTube star KSI as Mike Tyson gears up to take on Jake Paul this summer in a first-of-its-kind Netflix special event. Mike Tyson isn’t the only OG boxer getting back in the ring against some young blood, as Roy Jones Jr. thinks he stands a good chance against British influencer KSI in a hypothetical bout. Jones appeared in an interview on the Misfits Boxing YouTube channel on April 11, 2024, where he was asked about the possibility of taking on KSI amidst the current hype surrounding Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul. His outlook was quite positive. In fact, Jones believes that he could make the fight happen — but says the conditions would need to be right to sign the dotted line. “I mean, we can make it happen,” he answered. “I understand that KSI’s good. He has a different style, but Roy Jones Jr. is still a dog, you understand me? He don’t back down from nothing, and when he comes, he comes for real. “So if there was enough time and it’s a great situation, and if it’s gonna be in the UK and people would wanna come see it — I mean, I’m younger than Mike Tyson. If Mike can do it, why can’t I? But it’s gotta be the right situation. So if people wanna see it and it’s a great situation, and a great chance for me to come perform in front of my UK crowd, how could I say no?” (Topic begins at 17:00) When asked how he’d fare in the hypothetical match, Jones didn’t count out KSI’s skills despite the gap in their experience in the ring. “From what I’ve seen, his uniqueness would be very difficult to deal with, because you never know when he’s coming and when he’s not,” Jones reflected. “He’s unpredictable. And that being said, he’s gonna be hard, especially when your reflexes are not what they used to be.” Thus far, KSI hasn’t responded to Jones’ latest remarks… but it’s clear that Roy Jones Jr. is down to scrap if everything’s right.

Ricky Hatton explains why Anthony Joshua will beat Francis Ngannou – Dexerto
Ricky Hatton explains why Anthony Joshua will beat Francis Ngannou Associated PressAnthony Joshua will need to beat Francis Ngannou on Friday to help make the most anticipated fight in boxing with Tyson Fury happen. One retired boxing great believes he has a quality that will fuel his win. Former two-division world champion Ricky Hatton emerged from the shadows of retirement to chime in on the upcoming Joshua-Ngannou bout. Hatton spoke highly of both boxers. While he acknowledged Ngannou’s surreal power, the former 2005 Fighter of the Year is rolling with Joshua despite shortcomings that have followed him throughout his championship contention. Hatton sees an intangible trait as being the difference maker for his British compatriot. Hatton believes Anthony will set up mega-bout with Tommy Fury Hatton spoke with Inside Casino on the pay-per-view bout that’s now less than four days away. He cited Joshua’s confidence as a factor that will trump his chin against the former UFC heavyweight champion. “He [Joshua] doesn’t have the lateral movement of Tyson Fury, so he’s going to be standing in front of Francis Ngannou, which worries me a little bit because if AJ does cop one, that could be that. But I’m going to go with AJ based on his confidence and his new team. I think he’ll have enough firepower to shine against Ngannou,” Hatton declared. It’s been a rollercoaster stretch for Joshua, who has gone 3-2 in his last five fights. While the former heavyweight champion has won three straight, he hasn’t fully shaken a lasting reputation for succumbing to hard hits. Ngannou managed to knock down Fury in his first professional boxing match. The unheard of feat makes him a threat to put any fighter to sleep. That may not bode well for “AJ.” Despite that, Hatton is sure that Joshua’s self-belief and ring presence will amplify his experience advantage over the Cameroonian mixed martial artist. The 45-year-old also stated that Joshua vs. Fury would be the “biggest fight in British history.” He claimed that Fury would need to be at the top of his game to best a fighter in Joshua who seemingly has his “mojo” back. Friday night’s showdown will carry huge implications for the division. It will be a battle of styles between both behemoths. Hatton would know better than most if Joshua can use his swagger and speed to outlast or even knock out Ngannou in a potential slugfest.

Paige VanZant fight record after former UFC star’s switch to Misfits Boxing BKFC/MisfitsPaige VanZant and Elle Brooke went toe-to-toe in the headline fight in Misfits Boxing’s X Series 15 on Saturday, May 25. VanZant put on a show in her first Misfits card as the American recovered from a first round knockdown to earn a split decision draw against Brooke. As such, VanZant, a former UFC and Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) star, will be hoping for a rematch as she looks to prise away Brooke’s Misfits women’s middleweight title. Ahead of a potential rematch, we’ve taken a look at VanZant’s fight record in full and the opponents she has faced along the way. She now has one draw to her name in her only boxing fight so far. Paige VanZant UFC record in full VanZant quickly emerged as a potential superstar for UFC with a flurry of early victories to kickstart her career. However, a combination of poor form and injuries would derail her momentum in the octagon. After making her debut in the sport in 2014, she would bow out with defeat in 2020 as she bid farewell to the promotion on the undercard of Kamaru Usman vs Jorge Masvidal at UFC 251 in Abu Dhabi. Her resume is nothing to be sniffed at, however, as her 2015 clash with Rose Namajunas (‘Thug Rose’) would prove, fighting someone who went on to become a future champion. Oscar De La Hoya slammed for “classless” reaction to Rolly Romero loss – Dexerto
Oscar De La Hoya slammed for “classless” reaction to Rolly Romero loss Associated PressBoxing promoter Oscar De La Hoya has been slammed for his “classless” reaction to Rolly Romero’s loss on Saturday. Romero lost his WBA super-lightweight world title to Isaac Cruz, who stopped the champion in the eighth round of their fight in Las Vegas. De La Hoya promotes super-lightweight contender Ryan Garcia and a potential world title shot against Romero was spoken about earlier this year. However, Romero, who is promoted by Mayweather promotions, opted to fight on Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions latest show and a fight never materialized. Romero, instead, defended his title against Cruz on the promotion’s first show on Amazon Prime Video. After Romero lost his title on Saturday, De La Hoya, alongside fellow Golden Boy Promotions promoter Bernard Hopkins, was filmed laughing at his expense on Instagram with a message that read: “We just heard Rolly got stopped by a chihuahua LMAO.” As such, Leonard Ellerbe – CEO of Mayweather promotions – hit out at the pair and dubbed them “classless” for their reaction. “Wow, Rolly is OK but what if he wasn’t and something tragic happened?” Ellerbe tweeted. “Classless behavior from two Hall of Fame fighters and promoters especially immediately after a fight in my opinion. Props again to Isaac Cruz and his team on a terrific performance.” Cruz could well look to fight the winner of next month’s huge fight between Garcia and WBC champion Devin Haney, while IBF champion Subriel Matias and WBO champion Teofimo Lopez also offer another chance of a unification fight.

Oscar De La Hoya consents to Ryan Garcia vs Gervonta Davis rematch under one condition – Dexerto
Oscar De La Hoya consents to Ryan Garcia vs Gervonta Davis rematch under one condition Golden Boy Promotions | Mayweather PromotionsOscar De La Hoya is willing to work to make a rematch between Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis happen if Davis capitulates to one fight clause. In the days after Garcia’s upset win over the reigning WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney, the California native called out a handful of fighters including WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis. The boxing world wants to see “King Ryan” get a second crack at Davis after losing to him in their first bout by way of a seventh-round TKO. That’s what reporters echoed to Garcia’s manager De La Hoya on Wednesday, asking him if a second fight will take shape. The Mexican boxing legend expressed willingness to negotiate a rematch with Davis’ camp, conditionally, if “Tank” moves up in weight from 135 pounds to 143 or 144 pounds. “Yeah. Look, Ryan Garcia told me he can’t make 140, so he would want the fight at 143, 144. So yeah, anybody that wants to fight him, call me. At 144, we’ll make the fight happen. But, I have to sit down with Ryan. I have to sit down with his team, and then figure out a plan and then go from there,” De La Hoya said. The reason for “the Golden Boy’s” insistence is because Garcia missed weight before the Haney fight. He came in at 143.2 pounds, over three pounds more than the bout’s 140-pound limit, costing him a shot to claim “The Dream’s” WBC title. After the win, the 5-foot-10 fighter admitted that he no longer desires fighting below his current weight and that 135 pounds is “not healthy” for him anymore. As for Davis, he moved up to 140 pounds for his first fight against Garcia, which was fought at catchweight. However, all of the pound-for-pound great’s previous 28 contests have been fought at lightweight. His upcoming title match against Frank Martin on June 15 will also be fought at 135 pounds. The outcome of Davis’s next fight against Martin will impact rematch prospects with Garcia. All things considered, Davis’ promoter Floyd Mayweather told Garcia that he’ll likely have to wait a year-and-a-half to two years before fighting “Tank” again. But, De La Hoya’s openness lays the groundwork for the rematch to come to fruition down the line.

Oleksandr Usyk next fight: Tyson Fury rematch confirmed by Turki Alalshikh – Dexerto
Oleksandr Usyk next fight: Tyson Fury rematch confirmed by Turki Alalshikh Associated PressOleksandr Usyk’s next fight will be the highly anticipated rematch with Tyson Fury after Turki Alalshikh confirmed the contest will take place later this year. Usyk was crowned as the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the world since Lennox Lewis (1999) after he won via split decision against Fury in May. The pair had a rematch clause in the contract and now the man who holds the largest purse strings in boxing has given the green light to do it all over again. Here is all we know so far about the Fury vs Usyk rematch. Who is Oleksandr Usyk fighting next? Turki Alalshikh has confirmed that Fury and Usyk will fight again on December 21, 2024. The rematch will take place during Riyadh Season, seven months after the pair last went toe-to-toe in Saudi Arabia. Usyk, who holds all the belts, has requested that he be allowed to keep the IBF title for his rematch with Tyson Fury on December 21, setting up another undisputed heavyweight title fight. This comes after Daniel Dubois beat Filip Hrgovic to become the mandatory IBF challenger. He is set for a fight with Anthony Joshua in September this year, but the Ukrainian wants his rematch with Fury to be for all the titles once again. If Hrgovic had won, that request could well have been turned down given that the Croatian had been waiting for two years for a crack at the belt. But now Dubois has beaten him, a six-month wait does not pale in comparison to Hrgovic’s purgatory. How Fury vs Usyk unfolded Oleksandr Usyk went toe-to-toe with Tyson Fury and emerged victorious as the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. The Ukrainian star’s outfit was decked out to the nines as he made his way to the ring with a loud pop from the Saudi Arabian crowd. Usyk entered the ring by stepping over the top rope, as the former cruiserweight champion kept a menacing stare while awaiting his challenger. After Fury danced his way to the ring in typical ‘Gypsy King’ fashion, Michael Buffer introduced both fighters before referee Mark Nelson called for the opening bell. Fury took control of the fight early by using his massive reach advantage, keeping Usyk at bay for much of the opening four rounds of the match. However, the crafty southpaw began finding openings and landed a couple of brutal jabs that caused a mouse under Fury’s right eye and blood to fall from his nose. In the ninth round, Usyk turned the tides, as the 37-year-old rocked Fury so bad that the ropes were the only thing to keep the 6-foot-9 fighter from plummeting to the ground. Tyson was ultimately saved by the bell after answering the ten count. Although he rebounded nicely in the following rounds, Usyk didn’t let up. He continued picking apart the now-damaged Fury. The fight went to the scorecards, which resulted in a controversial split decision. Ultimately, two judges saw it in Usyk’s favor, making him boxing’s first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999. Anthony Joshua awaits the winner of Usyk vs Fury 2 While a rematch has now been confirmed, Anthony Joshua still expects to get the next crack at the belts. First, AJ will fight the winner of Daniel Dubois and Filip Hrgovic later in the year, but Fury’s promoter has already said that Joshua will fight the winner of the rematch in 2025. Joshua was in attendance, alongside footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, and he refused to pick the Fury vs Usyk match. Instead, saying, “Good luck to both of them.” Boxing fans will remember that Joshua and Usyk have already shared the squared circle twice before, with the Ukrainian taking both fights by decision. Oleksandr Usyk’s professional boxing record Usyk remains undefeated at 22-0 following his impressive victory against Fury in a 12-round classic. It looked as though Usyk might finish Fury in the ninth round and notch the 15th knockout victory of the Ukrainian’s career. Alas, he would have to settle for a split-decision win on the scorecards. Usyk will look to knock Fury out and end any doubt in the rematch later this year.

Oleksandr Usyk fires chilling warning to Tyson Fury after training camp footage – Dexerto
Oleksandr Usyk fires chilling warning to Tyson Fury after training camp footage Associated PressOleksandr Usyk has fired a warning shot to Tyson Fury on social media after the Gypsy King shared training camp footage ahead of their fight in May. Fury and Usyk will go head-to-head on May, 18 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The bout was initially scheduled for February, but a sparring injury suffered by Fury in training led to him needing 11 stitches as the fight was postponed. Fury has now begun his training camp for the clash with Usyk as he shared footage of him working the pads. Oleksandr Usyk sends warning to Tyson Fury Despite Fury looking in great shape, Usyk was quick to point out that his preparations for the fight were far more advanced than that of his opponent. Taking to Instagram, Usyk shared a video of him skipping in the ring with the caption: “Your camp just started, mine never finished.” Fury, meanwhile, was ringside for Anthony Joshua’s destructive knockout win over Francis Ngannou earlier this month. Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, will be cheering Fury on in his fight against Usyk, after he pleaded with the 35-year-old to beat the Ukrainian to set up a fight with AJ. Fury has also come to the defense of Jake Paul and his fight with Mike Tyson after the bout was met with some scepticism by fans. Yet Fury admitted the fight will be “fantastic for boxing” as he questioned who wouldn’t want to watch the contest. Tyson, 57, will go head-to-head with Paul on July, 20. The fight will be streamed live on Netflix, taking place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL‘s Dallas Cowboys. Tyson had been warned by a doctor over fears of suffering from brain damage from the fight, something that his trainer, Rafael Cordeiro, has now dismissed.

Oleksandr Usyk boxing record: Tyson Fury win crowns undisputed heavyweight champion – Dexerto
Oleksandr Usyk boxing record: Tyson Fury win crowns undisputed heavyweight champion Associated PressOleksandr Usyk became the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world with victory over Tyson Fury on Saturday, May 18. After the contest, we have taken a look at the Ukrainian’s overall boxing record and some of his biggest fights to date. Usyk, who now holds the WBA, WBO, WBC and IBF belts, beat Fury (34-1-1) by split decision and became the first undisputed world heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999. The fight will go down as the biggest boxing event of the year as the two giants of the sport put their undefeated records on the line in Saudi Arabia. Here is a look at some of Usyk’s biggest fights and his boxing record after the bout with Fury. Contents Murat Gassiev, 2018 – Tony Bellew, 2018 – Anthony Joshua 1, 2021 – Anthony Joshua 2, 2022 – Tyson Fury, 2024 – Overall boxing record – Murat Gassiev, 2018 Usyk, an Olympic gold medallist, became the undisputed cruiserweight world champion with victory over Russian rival Murat Gassiev, winning the inaugural World Boxing Super Series Muhammad Ali Trophy. Having already beaten former long-reigning champion Marco Huck, before adding a second world title belt to his name with a tight win over Mairis Briedis, Usyk cemented his place in the history books with his win over Gassiev. Competing in his 15th professional bout, the Ukrainian’s unanimous decision win saw him become the first man to hold all four world cruiserweight titles. His opponent was unbeaten in 26 fights prior, holding both the WBA and IBF belts, but it was a boxing masterclass from Usyk in what was a near-shutout decision win. Usyk landed nearly three times as many punches as Gassiev, as he grew into the fight, using his speed and precision to outbox the Russian. Tony Bellew, 2018 Usyk’s final fight in the cruiserweight division came against Tony Bellew. On paper, the result will go down as a TKO in the eighth, but the Brit threatened to cause an upset early on. The hardcore Everton fan went hell for leather in the first four rounds, as ‘The Cat’ was behind on the scorecards early on. However, he would eventually find his rhythm after dealing with Bellew’s counter-punching, landing a brutal left hook that sealed the stoppage. Usyk later described the fight as his “toughest” yet, but he would wave goodbye to the cruiserweight division with all four belts to his name. Anthony Joshua 1, 2021 In front of 65,000 fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Usyk put on a boxing clinic against Anthony Joshua in the heavyweight division. He outclassed AJ over 12 rounds on his way to a unanimous decision victory, inflicting just the second defeat of the Brit’s career. Usyk was on the front foot from the start, controlling the ring and ensuring he was the one dictating the pace of the fight, not the defending champion. In the end, the final bell saved Joshua from what could have been a knockout defeat in a result that stunned the home crowd. Anthony Joshua 2, 2022 AJ would get his chance at revenge 11 months later, but sadly for the man from Watford, Usyk’s win was no fluke. Joshua put in a much-improved performance when they took to the ring again in Saudi Arabia, but the Ukrainian was still too good for the 32-year-old. Usyk would eventually win the fight by split decision, with two judges scoring the fight 115-113 and 116-112 in his favor, while the third saw it 115-113 to Joshua. After the fight, Joshua picked up Usyk’s belts and dropped them out of the ring, before launching into a bizarre rant questioning how he had been beaten. Usyk, however, had eyes for one man and one man only – Tyson Fury. Calling The Gypsy King out for a fight that will decide the undisputed heavyweight world champion. Tyson Fury, 2024 Two undefeated fighters walked into the ring looking to leave as the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, but it was Usyk that made sure he had his ‘0’ intact come the final bell. The Ukrainian started strong, controlling the ring and outboxing Fury for the opening rounds. But the Gypsy King grew into the contest as he started to build momentum heading into the middle rounds. But in the ninth, Usyk rocked Fury with a flurry of punches as he had his opponent quite literally on the ropes, ultimately securing a knockdown on the scorecards. Fury beat the count, but the bell at the end of the round stopped what looked set to be an impending TKO or KO. Usyk won via split decision after the fight went the distance. Two of the three judges scored it 115-12 and 114-113 to Usyk, while the final scorecard had it 114-113 to Fury. Oleksandr Usyk boxing record Overall, Oleksandr Usyk’s boxing record stands at 22-0, with 14 victories by knockout along the way. Victory over Fury means that he is now a two-weight undisputed champion – both at heavyweight and cruiserweight – and is the first ever four-belt heavyweight king. A rematch clause in the contract means Usyk will likely face Fury again later this year. For all the biggest results and upcoming fights this year, check out Dexerto’s 2024 boxing schedule.

Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight date finally confirmed & it’s on Netflix – Dexerto
Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight date finally confirmed & it’s on Netflix NetflixJake Paul will face former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson in Netflix’s first-ever live boxing event on July 20. In a move that blindsided boxing fans, the “Problem Child” will face “Iron Mike” in the ring at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of NFL side the Dallas Cowboys. Netflix announced the show on Thursday and released a 19-second trailer in which the pair came face to face for the first time. It is the subscription service’s first dip into live boxing and the fight will be available to watch for all 260million Netflix subscribers worldwide. Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson tipped to be “most-watched boxing event” in modern history Paul’ Most Valuable Promotions company will promote the show and co-founder Nakisa Bidarian said in a statement: “Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson is a once-in-a-lifetime dream matchup and I anticipate it will be the most-watched boxing event in modern boxing history.” Paul added: “It’s crazy to think that in my second pro fight I went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson’s undercard. “Now, less than four years later, I’m stepping up to face Tyson myself to see if I have what it takes to beat one of boxing’s most notorious fighters and biggest icons. “Within just two and a half years of founding MVP, we’re about to produce the biggest fight in history, a fight in the biggest NFL stadium in the US, broadcast live, on the biggest streaming platform in the world — a testament to all we’ve accomplished in such a short amount of time.” Meanwhile, Tyson added: “[Paul has] grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT. “It’s a full-circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch, as I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones, and now I plan to finish him.” It has not yet been confirmed whether the fight between Paul and Tyson will be sanctioned as an official professional fight or an exhibition bout but it certainly caught fans by surprise. Paul had previously hinted he would be back in the ring at the end of April, following his first round stoppage win over Ryan Bourland on Saturday, but his plans have now seemingly changed. Tyson was renowned as the “Baddest Man on the Planet” during his two reigns as world heavyweight champion between 1986 and 1996. But the 57-year-old has not fought professionally since a loss to Kevin McBride in 2005, although he did return for an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr in 2020. Paul, meanwhile, is 9-1 in the boxing ring having made the gradual transition into professional boxing from influencer boxing. The YouTube star has amassed a huge following and has called out some of the best boxers in the world, namely Canelo Alvarez and Ryan Garcia, in recent weeks.

NBA Legend makes shocking Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul claim – Dexerto
NBA Legend makes shocking Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul claim Associated Press | NBARetired NBA All-Star Paul Pierce made several controversial statements about Jake Paul’s announced fight against Mike Tyson on July 20 and the state of sports today. As a longtime boxing fan, Pierce felt it necessary to weigh in on Paul’s emergence in the boxing sphere. The Hall-of-Famer admitted that while Paul is must-see TV, he’s an emblem of a generation set on entertainment value in sports. That bold assertion only scratches the surface of his striking string of takes. Paul Pierce boldly devalues legitimacy of sports outcomes Pierce took to “The Truth Lounge” on Friday to speak with former college basketball star Jason Crowe on the upcoming megafight. The NBA star turned media personality claimed that sports have become increasingly less about virulent competition and more about viral moments. The bus did not stop there. He stated that sports today are fixed: “Jake Paul is just changing the game of boxing and it’s crazy because now it’s about, who’s watching? Who’s getting the views? Who are people interested in?” Pierce said before going into the realness of outcomes in this day and age. “Sports used to be unscripted. So now I’m like, it’s starting to look like everything is scripted now.” Crow took things further and said without a doubt that the Paul-Tyson fight will muster up a pre-packaged outcome: “This event right here is definitely gonna be scripted. They gon talk about what they gon do, and they gon be trained to deliver, just like wrestling,” Crow said surely. Paul fights have had questionable outcomes in the past. Particularly, his knockout punch against Tyron Woodley got side eyes. Though, the YouTube sensation has made a name for himself in the sport, innovating new ways for fighters to gain more autonomy over their contracts and promotion as Pierce alluded to. Celebrity matches are now commonplace in boxing and several other sports, contrary to Pierce’s day. In spite of all that, Tyson will not follow that mold. Judging off of his exhibition against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, the realness of Tyson’s ferocity will entertain more than anything else on fight night. While Pierce’s comments may come across as a comedy of errors and a diss against today’s athletic landscape, he’s eager watch the fight this summer.

Nate Diaz & Jorge Masvidal slated for boxing rematch on June 1 – Dexerto
Nate Diaz & Jorge Masvidal slated for boxing rematch on June 1 Associated PressNate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal are officially slated for a light-heavyweight rematch on June 1, this time in the boxing ring. Masvidal got the better of Diaz in their first fight at UFC 244 back on November 2, 2019, handing Diaz his twelfth career loss with a fourth-round technical knockout. Nearly four years later, Diaz is out to prove he can avenge his defeat in the squared circle. The highly-anticipated second bout brings Masvidal out of a short retirement he announced in April of 2023. Masvidal took home the UFC’s celebratory BMF “Baddest Motherf****r” belt last time these two fought. Now, they will face off in a 10-round “Last Man Standing” contest, as billed by Fanmio, the distributor of the fight. Nate Diaz out for blood in Jorge Masvidal boxing rematch Diaz is already hyped for the boxing match. The 38-year-old shared the fight’s official announcement on X on Wednesday afternoon. He’s also been boasting like a current BMF title holder would, posting training pictures and calling out boxing’s three kings of the heavyweight division, Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua and Deontay wilder. Masvidal is also ready for action. He too promoted the fight on social media. The two-division MMA fighter came for Diaz’s in a statement published by ESPN. “Nate’s a dead man walking. I can’t wait to prove that last time was no fluke. He got saved by the referee. Now we are boxing, which he says is his forte, but he’s got no shot at beating me. I’m not going to give him an inch in that ring to even breathe.” In their first bout, Masvidal dominated Diaz from start to finish. He landed a devastating right kick to Diaz’s face in the first round that scored the first major knockdown on the night. From a punching perspective, the Miami native did a number on Diaz’s ribs with several left hooks. Perhaps his best punch of the affair was a vicious point-blank overhand right in the third. Diaz did come alive late, landing some straight hands to Masvidal’s money maker. But the veteran contender put Diaz away with a takedown and an onslaught that forced a doctor’s stoppage prior to the start of the fourth round. The fight has gotten some mixed reactions from fans due to both being past their primes. However, it appears the two will be able to replicate their pay-per-view success in the boxing realm on fight night.

Naoya Inoue next fight: Gervonta Davis super bout eyed amid Wembley option – Dexerto
Naoya Inoue next fight: Gervonta Davis super bout eyed amid Wembley option Associated PressNaoya Inoue is quickly becoming one of boxing’s biggest superstars and he is arguably the number one pound for pound fighter in the world. The Japanese sensation is already a four-weight world champion and is one of three fighters in the four belt era to become undisputed champion in two different weight divisions. ‘The Monster’ is a huge star in Japan but his appeal is widening, and he has already fought in the United States and the United Kingdom during his 27 fight career. Inoue is unbeaten and boasts 24 knockout victories, with his power carrying through the weight divisions. He has been a world champion at light-flyweight, super-flyweight, bantamweight and now super-bantamweight. In his last fight, the 31-year-old recovered from a first knockdown of his career to stop Luis Nery inside six rounds to retain his WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO super-bantamweight world titles. His next step, though, is an interesting one, with Inoue having a number of lucrative options on the table. Dexerto Sport has rounded up the possibilities for his next move below. Stay at super-bantamweight with two-fight plan Inoue took just two fights and 18 rounds to unify all four world titles in the super-bantamweight division. He relieved Stephen Fulton of his WBC and WBO world titles with an eighth round stoppage and then added Marlon Tapales’ WBA and IBF world titles with a 10th round knockout. After defending all four belts in a dramatic fight with Nery in May 2024, Inoue has the choice to make another defense of his titles or move up in weight in search of a fifth world title. If he fancies a fourth fight at 122 pounds, Australia’s Sam Goodman is mandatory challenger for two of his belts, while former unified world champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev and ex-world champion TJ Doheny are other options. Top Rank, Inoue’s promoters, are keen for him to fight again twice this year, once in September in Tokyo and another fight in December Top Rank CEO Bob Arum hinted that Doheny may get the fight in September and Goodman the fight in December, given the Aussie plans to have a stay-busy fight in Australia in July. “The plan is for Inoue to fight again in Japan this September,” Arum said. “And then depending on how everything breaks down from there, he would fight again at the end of the year, maybe in Riyadh. And both Sam Goodman and the Irish kid (Doheny) are great opponents. “I had the opportunity to have a brief conversation with Sam this week in Tokyo and was very impressed with him and his demeanour. So whether he fights Inoue in September or December, I don’t know. But he certainly will be fighting Inoue this year.” Move up to featherweight amid wildcard Wembley offer Saudi Arabian’s emergence into the boxing scene has already seen a number of fighters earn big money for some mega fights, and the man behind it all, Turki Alalshikh, is keen to start promoting fights in the lower weight divisions. His number one target to begin that journey is to get Inoue on his cards, and Japanese media claim Inoue’s next fight could be on the undercard of a proposed Anthony Joshua card at Wembley Stadium in September. A move to featherweight and a challenge for a world title in a fifth weight division could well provide the perfect platform for that occasion. Rev Vargas (WBC), Raymond Ford (WBA), Luis Alberto Lopez (IBF) and Rafael Espinoza (WBO) currently hold the world titles at 126 pounds and a case to fight all four fighters could easily be made. If Inoue fights on an Alalshikh card, Vargas has defended his belt on a Joshua card before, while Ford is defending his belt against Nick Ball on a Saudi card in June. Should Inoue fight under his current promoters, Top Rank, they also promote Lopez meaning a fight could easily be made between the two fighters. And should Inoue inform the governing bodies he is moving up in weight, it is likely the WBO would make him the mandatory challenger for Espinoza’s belt. In short, Inoue’s opportunities at featherweight are plentiful. Naoya Inoue vs Gervonta Davis super fight It is a fight that would set pulses racing, but Inoue would have to jump up three weight divisions to challenge WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis. There is 13 pounds between the two divisions, but it is a dream fight between two pound for pound superstars that Saudi promoter, Alalshikh, has named as a bout he would like to make. Speaking prior to Oleksandr Usyk’s win over Tyson Fury, Alalshikh said of a potential Inoue vs Davis matchup: “If they reach the right weight and give us the right proposal, we can deliver it.” Davis battered Ryan Garcia in his last fight and is in search of a big fight after his title defense in June against Frank Martin. While the likes of Garcia, Devin Haney, Teofimo Lopez, Vasiliy Lomachenko and Shakur Stevenson are options around his weight, a fight with Inoue would certainly generate a lot of intrigue. For all the biggest results and upcoming fights this year, check out Dexerto’s 2024 boxing schedule.

Muay Thai fighter’s gruesome broken nose goes viral after brutal punch – Dexerto
Muay Thai fighter’s gruesome broken nose goes viral after brutal punch YouTube: Thai Fight InternationalThai Fight is a Muay Thai promotion located in Bangkok, Thailand. A recent fight between PTT Petchrungruang and Shayan Heydari has gone viral after a disgusting broken nose. Thai Fight was founded in 2009 and has put on hundreds of shows over the past decade and a half. On March 24, two fighters took the ring, resulting in a viral clip for the ages. In the video, Shayan Heydari defends his opponent’s jab in the second round. But PTT Petchrungruang snuck an uppercut through Heydari’s guard and gave him a “free nose job,” as one X account put it. Petchrungruang hit Heydari directly in the center of his face, causing his nose to snap, almost looking like it would completely fly off his body. Although Heydari tried to re-place his nose and keep fighting, the blood was spilling out, and the referee had no choice but to call the match. The medical staff agreed to end the fight, giving Petchrungruang a TKO victory to pair with his legendary uppercut clip. The announcers even remarked, “[Petchrungruang] just sent his nose to another dimension, I must say!” As expected, fans on social media had fun at the expense of Heydari — specifically his nose. Another fan pointed out the wicked sound that occurred upon impact. Many others call it the worst broken nose they’ve seen on camera, which is a hard claim to refute given the graphic nature of Heydari’s nose. Petchrungruang couldn’t have landed a cleaner uppercut, and Heydari now finds himself on the wrong side of an all-time boxing clip.

Mike Tyson’s trainer addresses brain damage concerns ahead of Jake Paul fight – Dexerto
Mike Tyson’s trainer addresses brain damage concerns ahead of Jake Paul fight Associated PressMike Tyson’s trainer, Rafael Cordeiro, has dismissed fears concerning the boxing legend’s health ahead of his fight with Jake Paul. Tyson, 57, will go head-to-head with Paul on July, 20. The fight will be streamed live on Netflix, taking place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL‘s Dallas Cowboys. Tyson is coming out of retirement for the fight and was recently warned by a doctor that he risks suffering from brain damage if he steps back into the ring. Yet Cordeiro has now downplayed any concerns regarding the bout being irresponsible, insisting that Tyson is already in amazing shape. Mike Tyson brain damage fears vs Jake Paul dismissed “I believe we don’t have to be concerned about it. We’re talking about a two-time world champion,” he told The MMA Hour. “The guy didn’t have 20 fights in two years, he knows how to fight. He’s fought against the best guys in the world. When he steps inside the ring he knows what to do. It’s not something new for Mike, and this fight is no different.” Turning his attention to the fight itself, Cordeiro has no doubt in his mind over what the outcome will be. “He works hard every single day to go in there and try to knock Jake out from the beginning to the end,” he added. “This is his style, nobody has [to] teach Mike Tyson how to fight. He’s going to prove that in July. You can see fire in his eyes when he trains, and he will never give less than that. I truly believe it is going to be a great show. “Mike is going to step into the ring as the old Mike Tyson, and he’s going to try and knock out Jake from the beginning to the end.” Addressing any concerns that fans may have about the 57-year-old’s fitness, Cordeiro believes that supporters will be in for a treat when Tyson enters the ring. “He’s already in shape and we’ve started doing rounds. It’s amazing to see him hitting mitts, Mike is a monster. I can guarantee Mike will touch Jake and lets see how Jake reacts to that. “With all due respect, he’s a good kid… but he hasn’t faced anyone who is a legend in the sport. We are talking about one of the most popular people in the world.”

Mike Tyson will hold back against Jake Paul to not “seriously hurt” him says insider – Dexerto
Mike Tyson will hold back against Jake Paul to not “seriously hurt” him says insider Amanda Wescott/SHOWTIME/Instagram/MikeTysonThe long-awaited boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul could be extremely disappointing according to Iron Mike’s former sparring partner, with him claiming it may be a “glorified sparring session”. Jake Paul is set to battle Mike Tyson in Netflix’s first-ever living boxing event on November 15 and the controversial fight has become the talk of the combat sports world since its announcement. While many are concerned for Tyson’s health, especially considering the fight was delayed after the 58-year-old suffered an ulcer flare-up, some believe he could pull off an upset against the upstart Paul. Joe Egan, Tyson’s former sparring partner, is one of those believers, but expressed doubt that Mike even wants to go all-out at the risk of “seriously hurting” The Problem Child. Speaking with talkSPORT, Egan warned the bout would be a “glorified sparring session.” According to Egan, when Tyson returned to the ring in 2020 to battle Roy Jones Jr, he hurt Roy with a body shot and sunk him. “Mike knew he could hurt Roy Jones. Anybody that Mike hits is going to hurt, probably knockout as well but he carried Roy Jones. I never believed Mike Tyson could carry anybody because when I sparred him at Catskill, every punch he threw was with bad intentions. He was a vicious, ferocious, savage heavyweight,” Egan explained. “To see him mellow with age is wonderful and to see what he did with Roy Jones is incredible.” Jake Paul KO’d former NBA player Nate Robinson on the undercard that night and believes Tyson pulling his punches made him confident. “You’ve got to admire him for getting in the ring with Mike Tyson, but I don’t think Mike will go full force on him. I don’t believe that because if Mike went full force on Jake Paul, he could seriously hurt him, never mind about the age. Mike will have lost a lot of speed with age but he won’t have lost his power,” the insider claimed. Egan isn’t the only one convinced that Tyson could KO Paul if an opening presents itself. Joe Rogan shared a similar sentiment on his podcast, noting that Tyson “can still knock your f**king head into another dimension if he can catch you.” We’ll have to see how the contest plays out once the two boxers finally meet in the ring this November.

Mike Tyson warns Jake Paul that his “life is on the line” when they fight – Dexerto
Mike Tyson warns Jake Paul that his “life is on the line” when they fight Associated Press; YouTube — Damon Elliott Show‘Iron’ Mike Tyson returns to the boxing ring on July 20 against Jake Paul, with the two having their first face-to-face press conference on May 13 where the former world champion issued a major warning to the influencer. At the onset of the long-awaited presser, which combat sports insider Ariel Helwani mediated, Paul received loud cheers when he came to the stage. Likewise, fans met Tyson with an overwhelmingly positive reception. As both fighters settled in at the podium, ‘Iron Mike’ hit the crowd with a, “Let’s f****** go!” Helwani, addressing Tyson as a living legend, asked why he took the fight against an opponent 30 years his junior, citing the immense backlash from boxing fans. “It was a no-brainer. He’s the new up-and-coming guy on the scene,” Tyson remarked. “I like shaking the sports world to its core, and I’m doing it now.” Moments later, Helwani questioned if Tyson took the fight with the goal of ending Paul’s ascension in the boxing scene. “No, I really like Jake a lot,” the 57-year-old said sincerely before sending a bold warning to his challenger. “But once he’s in that ring, he has to fight like his life is depending on it because it will be,” Tyson said, drawing oohs and awes from the packed house in New York City. Many have voiced concerns over Tyson’s advanced age and the potential injuries he could suffer in the ring with Paul. ‘The Problem Child’ has even sent a similar warning to his opponent that it’s “do or die” when they step in the ring. However, according to Tyson, those worries are placed on the wrong fighter. ‘Iron Mike’ says he won’t be taking it easy on Paul, even if the two share mutual respect toward one another. Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson will take place at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas — a venue capable of holding nearly 100,000 people for the much-anticipated boxing match. It also airs live on Netflix, marking the first endeavor by the streaming platform to join the live sports world. The card is accessible to all current subscribers at no extra charge.

Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul labeled a “joke” as rules allegedly enforce headgear – Dexerto
Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul labeled a “joke” as rules allegedly enforce headgear NetflixRules of the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight will allegedly have both competitors wearing headgear and bigger than usual 18oz gloves, leaving many labeling the boxing contest as a “joke.” After a handful of quick knockouts over relatively unknown boxers in recent months, Paul is circling back to the celeb route with arguably the biggest name in boxing history. Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson was locked in last week, much to the dismay of fellow fighters, fight fans, and of course, Paul’s longtime rival KSI. The long-retired veteran will be 58 by the time of the event on July 20. Naturally, many have been concerned over the 31-year age gap between them. Now, heavyweight boxer Derek Chisora is the latest to speak up, claiming he’s heard of various rules in place for the event. Seemingly as a way to prevent long-term damage and safeguard from a devastating knockout, Chisora claims Paul vs Tyson will go down with both wearing headgear along with much bigger gloves. Speaking on the recently announced fight, Chisora said the following: “I know for a fact they are using 18oz gloves and headguards. So we’re watching a sparring match. It’s a f***ing joke. You think I’m paying to watch that?” These comments quickly gained traction across social media, with many taking his words as gospel right away. As you can imagine, the response was far from positive. “Might as well cancel the event,” one Twitter user said after seeing the news. “If that’s true, not really interested,” another chimed in. “Just getting worse the more we find out about this.” In traditional combat sports contests, eight or 10oz gloves are often the norm. With rumors of 18oz gloves being used, the idea being to protect the fighters from sustaining too much damage with all the extra padding, prospective viewers clearly aren’t too thrilled. However, while many ran with Chisora’s words without blinking, it’s worth taking the comments with a heaping serve of salt. Until confirmed by the fighters themselves, the event hosts in Netflix, or the local commission, nothing is yet concrete. In fact, the most acclaimed combat sports journalist, Ariel Helwani, even went on record disputing some of the claims, stating there will be no headgear at the very least. So for now, we’ll just have to wait and see how things pan out.

Mike Tyson urges Jake Paul to not quit boxing super fight – Dexerto
Mike Tyson urges Jake Paul to not quit boxing super fight YouTube: Damon Elliott ShowMike Tyson has urged Jake Paul not to quit on their super fight in July, as the pair have ramped up their trash talk as the day draws closer. Back in March, Jake Paul revealed that, at long last, he’d be getting his fight with ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson. The pair will square off at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on July 20, and things have been ramping up in the last few weeks. Even though some interesting fights have been scrapped, the undercard has also started to take shape, and the trash talk has also got a fair bit more intense than when things started. Jake has claimed that one of them will have to “die” when it’s all said and done, and that he’s supremely confident in his ability to score the win over Tyson. ‘Iron’ Mike hasn’t been afraid to throw it back at Jake, either, and has now urged the YouTuber-turned-boxer to not turn his back and run from the fight like some fans would want. The Heavyweight boxing icon appeared on The Damon Elliot Show to hype up the fight and whilst on there, Elliot urged Jake to think again about the fight. “Jake, I’ve know Mike since he smacked the s**t out of me at 14-years-old, and my face has never been the same,” the host said. Tyson immediately replied, urging Jake to ignore the warning. “Do it Jake, please, don’t listen to this man. Jake, don’t listen to him, please,” he added. The pair have faced an uphill battle to get the fight sanctioned as a professional contest, especially given Tyson’s age. There is a 31-year age gap between the two, and ‘Iron’ Mike will undergo rigorous testing as a result. He has already revealed he’s made a few lifestyle changes, including no longer smoking marijuana and eating raw meat for his diet. We’ll see what difference it makes come fight night.

Mike Tyson urged to “forget” Jake Paul ‘script’ ahead of superfight – Dexerto
Mike Tyson urged to “forget” Jake Paul ‘script’ ahead of superfight NetflixMike Tyson has been urged to “forget” an apparent script for his fight with Jake Paul as the pair’s superfight gets closer and closer by the day. Since Jake Paul has gotten involved with boxing, there have been plenty of claims that his fights have been rigged and had a script of guidelines to follow – as if it was something out of the Rocky franchise. The YouTuber-turned-boxer has fought back against those claims a few times, and has also been helped by pundits – and even his opponents. However, with his next fight being against Mike Tyson – where there is a 31-year age gap – and being broadcast on Netflix, those theories have started to rumble again. One such supporter of the scripted theory is Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of the General Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia. Alalshikh has been the one organizing the big fights moving to Saudi from the United States and has previously met Tyson. “Please brother Mike, forget the script and beat this guy!,” Alalshikh tweeted following the press conference for their clash. The Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority is already on record as not being the biggest fan of Jake’s fights. He’s shut down questions about influencer match-ups taking place on Saudi cards previously, telling DAZN: “Please, we don’t want any YouTuber fights again.” As for the upcoming Jake and ‘Iron’ Mike fight, well, the contest will take place using professional rules. There won’t be any head guards or safer gloves used like had been claimed previously. Tyson is also changing his lifestyle ahead of the fight. He is no longer smoking marihuana and is on a diet of raw meat. Despite that, he did say he isn’t feeling in great shape yet, but he’s got plenty of time until they meet in July in Arlington, Texas.

Mike Tyson slams boxing’s best fighters for having poor entertainment value – Dexerto
Mike Tyson slams boxing’s best fighters for having poor entertainment value Naomi Osaka x Hana Kuma – YouTubeMike Tyson recently took a dig at the best boxers in the world, including Terence Crawford, for not having the entertainment value to generate hysteria as box office draws on fight nights. Tyson appeared on the “Good Trouble with Nick Kyrgios” podcast ahead of his upcoming megafight against Jake Paul and gave his opinion on the current state of boxing today. The former undisputed heavyweight champion stated that today’s elite champions lack the it-factor required to excite the fans enough and rake in top dollars from ticket sales. “Terence Crawford, in a boxing fight against Errol Spence. He’s the best fighter in the world but he can’t draw five thousand people,” Tyson hyperbolized before detailing what’s keeping fighters from being the same type of draws he and his contemporaries were. “It has to be entertaining. It has to be exciting. The best fighters in the world, can’t, like I said, they could beat anybody. They could beat anybody in the world, but they can’t draw five thousand tickets, you know. That’s because they’re not exciting. The way they make their money is because their opponents are very exciting, and got a big following. But there’s people, I’m sure they’re intent, guys that could beat them up, but they look like s***. It’s like watching grass grow.” Tyson mentioned that fighters in the 1980s and 1990s were more riveting and that’s why they took home purses that, when adjusted for today’s economic climate, were higher than the earnings of today’s biggest names. There is a level of validity to his claims regarding top fights in today’s landscape. Crawford’s bout against Spence was the most anticipated matchup of 2023. The match generated $21 million in gate revenue. In comparison, Tyson’s first bout against Evander Holyfield was also the most hyped matchup that brewed for upwards of five years while Tyson served a three-and-a-half year jail sentence. That fight brought in a then-record $14.2 million in gate revenue, which amounts to $27.57 million in 2024. Beyond the numbers, boxing has also been infiltrated by influencers forging their own path within the sport. Figures like Jake Paul and his brother Logan have created hype that resonates with fanbases despite limited track records. Tyson, 57, and Paul, 27 are gearing up for one of the most talked about fights of the year, despite Tyson’s advanced age and 19-year retirement as well as Paul being a rising star, yet without a notable opponent in their prime on his record, giving credence to his comments.

Mike Tyson shrugs off Logan Paul’s warning about fighting “killer” Jake Paul – Dexerto
Mike Tyson shrugs off Logan Paul’s warning about fighting “killer” Jake Paul YouTube/IMPAULSIVELegendary boxer Mike Tyson isn’t afraid of stepping into the ring against Jake Paul in his long-awaited return to combat sports, shrugging off Logan Paul’s concerns about fighting his brother. Mike Tyson is set to battle influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul on November 15. The 58-year-old returned to Logan Paul’s IMPAULSIVE podcast on August 20 to discuss the upcoming bout, which will be streamed live on Netflix. After Tyson argued that he’s still got that famous old-school, tough guy beast inside him, Logan issued a warning to Mike that his brother wouldn’t be playing around, either. “Mike, I’m going to be honest with you. I love you, Mike, and I’m very nervous for you. I care about you and I care about my brother, and I know the path he’s on right now, and it’s ruthless,” Logan said. “You gotta take him seriously.” ‘The Maverick’ continued, noting how his brother wanted to be a Navy SEAL before he started boxing in high school. “He’s a real killer, Mike,” Logan warned. “He wanted to go kill people on behalf of his county.” The boxing icon didn’t flinch and explained that he’s fearful of his 13-year-old son, because anyone is capable of killing. “In my life, the way I’ve lived my life and what I’ve seen, anyone is capable of killing you, so you should be apprehensive for anyone and that’s just my life, the life that I live. Everyone around me, anybody I know is capable of killing me, even if I don’t know you,” he stated. (segment begins at 10:33) “They’re capable of killing me, I don’t sleep on them. I’m not overconfident with anybody in life.” Logan further questioned if Tyson had permitted Jake to do “real damage” to him when they fight, and if there any behind-the-scenes talks had occurred to prevent anyone from getting hurt. “You know what’s going on, there’s no patty cake going on,” Tyson remarked. “This is what’s going to happen: Two men are gonna fight, somebody’s gonna win, they might fight again, and then they go to their separate banks and life goes on.” Jake Paul previously revealed his big payday for fighting Tyson, claiming he was making $40M from the bout, but it’s not known yet how much Mike is earning for coming out of retirement. We’ll have to see if Tyson can tap into his warrior self and shock the world by beating Jake Paul when the two clash on November 15.

Mike Tyson roasts “fat” Jake Paul and makes bizarre erection claim – Dexerto
Mike Tyson roasts “fat” Jake Paul and makes bizarre erection claim Associated PressMike Tyson bizarrely claimed he got an erection watching a YouTube video of Jake Paul dancing when he was 16, in a fiery final press conference in Dallas. The two fighters went head to head in Dallas on the day tickets went on sale for their July 20 fight at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Tyson warned Paul his life will be on the line in Monday’s first press conference in New York, and the verbal insults turned up a notch again when the pair came face to face on Thursday. But things took a turn when Paul said he wanted to “kiss Mike’s big juicy lips,” which led Tyson to hit back with a truly bizarre response. “He wanted to kiss me?” Tyson asked. “That’s so ironic that he said that because I saw pictures of him dancing at 16, doing that little dance on YouTube and for some reason I had an erection.” Paul didn’t rise to Tyson’s remark but it was met with an awkward reaction from the crowd. Nonetheless, the pair did not hold back with the trash talk and Tyson labeled Paul “fat” and claimed the “Problem Child”, who boasts a 9-1 record in boxing, has only knocked out “little children”. “I don’t know if he’s in his prime. He’s fat,” Tyson said. “He should be lean and mean. He’s fat and funky. I saw him with his shirt off the other day, he’s fat. Did you start training already?” Paul, who encouraged the crowd to chat “F*ck Jake Paul” at him during the press conference, hit back with a jibe over Tyson’s first professional loss to Buster Douglas. “Buster Douglas was fat, am I right?” Paul replied. “I’m going to end you quicker than he did.” “I know but you’re no Buster Douglas,” Tyson responded before laying into Paul’s boxing resume. “He couldn’t even knock out [Nate] Diaz,” Tyson said. “[Nate] Diaz is 40 pounds. He’s going to knock me out? Anderson Silva, he couldn’t even knock out the little guys? How’s he going to knock me out? “Who did he knock out? Little children. He never knocked out a real man, come on. He didn’t knock out Tommy Fury. I’m going to f*ck Jake up. How am I going to lose if he couldn’t beat Tommy Fury?” For details of how to watch Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson and all the fight details you need to know, read our fight hub here.

Mike Tyson reveals status of Jake Paul match amid medical concerns – Dexerto
Mike Tyson reveals status of Jake Paul match amid medical concerns Associated PressMike Tyson suffered a “medical emergency” on his May 27 flight, but the boxing legend confirmed to fans that his match vs Jake Paul is still on. Doubt was cast on the much-anticipated boxing match between Tyson and Paul after the former world champion suffered a “medical emergency” on his flight from Miami to Los Angeles. During Tyson’s cross-country trip, the 57-year-old reported feeling nauseous and dizzy after suffering what was described as a “stomach ulcer flare-up” in the final stretch of the flight. Passengers received a message asking if any doctors were on board to help tend to a sick patron. One eyewitness says that a flight attendant confirmed that the individual was Tyson. According to that same account, Tyson was in good spirits departing the plane. He even took time, amid the chaos, to snap pictures with fans on the way out. As reports of a “medical emergency” surfaced, many boxing fans began wondering what it meant for Tyson’s July 20 Netflix match vs Jake Paul. However, Tyson shut down the rumors only a day after the incident and even threw a verbal jab at Paul. “Now feeling 100% even though I don’t need to be to beat Jake Paul.” Likewise, after news of Tyson’s medical issue surfaced, Paul immediately went to social media to downplay the concerns of canceling the match, accusing reporters of “making sh*t up” for clicks. A spokesperson for Tyson later confirmed that the boxing legend was “doing great,” backing up the subsequent statements from both Paul and ‘Iron Mike.’ According to the two men, nothing has changed to jeopardize their march. As such, Tyson vs Paul is still on for July. It’ll take place in front of a packed house at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Tyson returns to professional boxing for the first time since 2005, while Paul looks to reach double digits in the win column, this time against one of the best boxers to ever live.

Mike Tyson gives concerning health update ahead of Jake Paul fight – Dexerto
Mike Tyson gives concerning health update ahead of Jake Paul fight YouTube: Fox40 NewsMike Tyson has given a concerning health update on himself ahead of his fight with Jake Paul, saying it is “hard to walk” at the minute. When Jake Paul and Mike Tyson announced that they’d be fighting, plenty of critics quickly pointed to the massive age between them both as the biggest sticking point with the fight. That’s before you mention Tyson’s experience and Jake moving up in weight once again. Since it was first announced, ‘Iron’ Mike has gone through a few health issues. Most notably, the 58-year-old pulled out of the original fight date of July 20 after he suffered an ulcer flare-up during a cross-country flight across the US. Fast forward a few months, and Tyson has repeatedly said he’ll be healthy enough to meet Jake on November 15. However, his body is feeling the pain a bit already. The boxing legend was a part of the commentary team for the Cage Wars event in Schenectady, New York on September 13 and gave a bit of an insight into his pre-fight work. “It’s hard to walk right now. But two months from now I’m going to be perfect,” Tyson said, admitting that things are “a little shaky’’ too. The former heavyweight king also told the commentary team that he has sparred six rounds and “the fight is won in the gym.” So, he’ll be ramping things up in the coming weeks. As it stands, the November 15 fight will take place over eight rounds, each being two minutes in length. Jake had suggested upping that to ten rounds at three minutes, but that hasn’t changed yet. It has been reported that Tyson will undergo more rigorous testing than normal. This is because Netflix and other organizers have concerns about his health. That won’t be done until November 14, so, that could spell disaster for the fight less than a day out. However, Jake hasn’t drafted a backup fighter in yet. So, he is confident it will go ahead.

Mike Tyson reveals Jake Paul fight is an exhibition in bizarre confirmation of rules – Dexerto
Mike Tyson reveals Jake Paul fight is an exhibition in bizarre confirmation of rules YouTube: Fox NewsMike Tyson has revealed his fight with Jake Paul will be an exhibition, rather than a professionally licensed fight. But in a bizarre confirmation of the rules during an interview with Fox News, Tyson has insisted both men are treating the contest as a “fight”, suggesting he is “scared to death” about returning to the ring. “Iron Mike”, a former world heavyweight champion, will look to roll back the years when he faces the “Problem Child” in the ring at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of NFL side the Dallas Cowboys. The July 20 show will be the first live boxing broadcast on Netflix, in a fight that is going to have lucrative financial rewards for both fighters. However, despite criticism of the event, given the 30-year age disparity, Tyson insists money is not a motivating factor behind taking the fight against the YouTube star, who holds a 9-1 record in the ring. “He has come a long way from YouTubing,” Tyson told Fox News. “Listen, I have seen a YouTuber at 16 doing weird dances – that is not the guy I am going to be fighting. This guy is going to come, he is going to try and hurt me, which I am accustomed to and his going to be greatly mistaken. “I will do just that (teach Paul a lesson) but dislike him? No. I do not have any grudges against him. He is beautiful. This is from my point of view of grabbing glory. Never money, only glory. I would never risk my health for money.” Tyson then confirmed the fight will be an exhibition but denied the fighters will be wearing protective head gear, as had previously been reported. The 57-year-old, who hasn’t fought since a 2020 exhibition with Roy Jones Jr, or professionally since 2005, also admitted to feeling nervous right now but claims he will be “invincible” come fight night. “Not true at all,” Tyson replied when asked if the fighters would be wearing protective head gear. “This is called an exhibition but if you look up exhibition, you will not see any of the laws we are fighting under. This is a fight. “I have a weird personality but I don’t think it is weird though. Whatever I am afraid to do, I do it. I was scared for the Roy (Jones Jr) fight but I said let’s do it. “Anything I am afraid of, I confront it. Right now, I am scared to death. But as the fight gets closer, I get less nervous because it becomes reality, and in reality, I am invincible.” However, despite Tyson’s claim that the fight is an exhibition, his bout with Paul has now been confirmed as an officially sanctioned professional fight, with the result going on both boxer’s records. The contest will be held across eight two-minute rounds – without headguards – as knockouts will be permitted during the fight that will see Paul and Tyson wear 14 ounce gloves.

Mike Tyson reveals he’s taking mushrooms while training for Jake Paul fight – Dexerto
Mike Tyson reveals he’s taking mushrooms while training for Jake Paul fight YouTube: IMPAULSIVEBoxing legend Mike Tyson is taking a rather unique approach in training for his upcoming bout against Jake Paul — and it involves getting zooted. Mike Tyson is slated to face off against YouTube star Jake Paul this November in a live-streamed bout on Netflix. While their fight was initially scheduled for the summer, it was pushed back after Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up. Now, he’s getting back in fighting shape… and he’s employing a unique training method to pummel the ‘Problem Child’ this fall. During an August 20 episode of Logan Paul’s IMPAULSIVE podcast, Tyson revealed his big secret in his training regimen, claiming that he “always” prepares for a match on psychedelic mushrooms. In fact, he pulled out a bag of dried mushrooms in the middle of the episode after co-host Mike Majlak asked if he was still taking them during his training camp. “I have to take ’em when I train,” Tyson said. “I always train with my mushrooms.” “Wait, what?” a shocked Logan asked. “I train with mushrooms,” Tyson repeated. “‘Cause I feel beautiful. It takes me to heaven, baby.” Logan went on to ask Mike if he’d still be using mushrooms on the night of his fight with Jake, to which the legend replied: “If I’m not on mushrooms, I’ll be on residue of mushrooms.” (Topic begins at 14:21) According to ScienceDirect, mushroom residue is the waste substrate that is produced during the processing of mushrooms — something Tyson says might be in his system come fight night. According to the US Anti-Doping Agency, psilocybin, the psychoactive agent found in magic mushrooms, is not currently banned as a performance-enhancing drug, so it seems that Iron Mike will be playing within the rules for his bout against Jake. This is far from the first time Tyson has opened up about his use of recreational drugs. In fact, he even has his own podcast called Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, where the fighting legend often lights up during his conversations with other famous figures.

Mike Tyson hits out at “jealous” critics ahead of Jake Paul fight – Dexerto
Mike Tyson hits out at “jealous” critics ahead of Jake Paul fight Associated PressMike Tyson is taking aim at his “jealous” critics ahead of the July 20 fight against Jake Paul. Mike Tyson appeared on Fox News this week to promote his Netflix match against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul. The soon-to-be 58-year-old revealed that it would be an exhibition match with Paul but still a “real” fight, according to Tyson. From UFC champions to high-profile boxing promoters, several within the sports combat community believe it is not a fair fight. Tyson heard these detractors and sent shots back at them during a separate interview with Reuters. “I’m 58, and what? I’m getting billions of views from just talking to somebody about fighting. “Everybody, even most of the athletes, they’re jealous. That’s whack. Who at 58 could sell out an 80,000-seat arena? “Their parents might not even come to watch them. That’s just keeping it real. They’re too boring for their children to watch. It’s like watching grass grow.” Tyson, a former boxing world champion, hasn’t fought in an official capacity since 2005, but he did have a 2020 exhibition bout vs. Roy Jones Jr. that ended in a draw. Tyson’s upcoming fight with Paul will go down as an exhibition, but “Iron Mike” promised to put on a show for his fans by knocking out his opponent. Paul, 27, is 30 years younger than Tyson, and many believe that will be enough for the rising boxer to notch a victory, even if it won’t go on his official record. However, others say Tyson’s power still exists in that thunderous right hand. They’re even warning Paul not to take the fight. No matter how many “jealous” athletes speak out against it, Tyson is committed to proving his doubters wrong — and earning a handsome payday in the process.

Mike Tyson forced to make major life change to legally fight Jake Paul – Dexerto
Mike Tyson forced to make major life change to legally fight Jake Paul Instagram/MikeTysonLegendary boxer Mike Tyson has been forced to make a significant lifestyle change to legally fight Jake Paul later this summer in Texas. On July 20, influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul will battle a 58-year-old ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson in Netflix’s first-ever live boxing event but the former champ has had to give up marijuana because of where the fight is taking place. Mike Tyson’s weed use is quite well-known, having smoked during every episode of his ‘Hotboxin’ podcast. The legendary fighter even sells his own ear-shaped edibles that pay homage to him biting off Evander Holyfield’s ear in 1997. However, Tyson is being forced to give up the green, because marijuana is on the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation’s banned substances list. As a result, if he were to smoke before the match, a positive drug test would result in a fine and a 90-day suspension. Plus, if Mike were to defeat Paul, the result would be changed from a victory to a “no contest,” something that the returning fighter doesn’t want. “He only stopped as a means of following all of the rules,” Tyson’s publicist explained to USA Today. “He is still a strong advocate for the medicinal benefits of cannabis for his personal well-being and others like him.” The random drug tests only happen the day of a fight and take at least a week for results to come back, so there’s no risk of the fight not happening, but there’s another interesting wrinkle to account for. While both Jake and Mike want the rules changed so the clash will count on their professional records, at the moment, the bout is slated to be an exhibition and if that policy remains, then Tyson’s decision to give up weed could be all for not. Tyson has taken drugs before his prior fights, including his 2020 scrap with Roy Jones Jr. We’ll have to see if staying Mary Jane-free pays dividends or if it affects the iconic boxer before his long-awaited return to the ring.

Mike Tyson “doesn’t care” that his health is at risk fighting Jake Paul – Dexerto
Mike Tyson “doesn’t care” that his health is at risk fighting Jake Paul YouTube: Fox40 NewsBoxing legend Mike Tyson isn’t concerned about his health in the weeks leading up to his fight with Jake Paul in spite of his age and an ulcer flare-up. Mike Tyson is dipping his toes into the world of influencer boxing as he prepares for his match against YouTube star Jake Paul on November 15, 2024. As fight night creeps ever closer, the debate about which boxer will take the victory grows more and more heated. Some combat sports fans believe Tyson’s many years of experience will outweigh Paul’s youthful strength, while others worry about the 58-year-old champ’s physical health due to his age. However, Tyson isn’t bothered at all by this. Given his status as one of the most legendary names in boxing, he’s a natural risk-taker — something he discussed in an interview with Fox40. “I’m just looking forward to this,” he said. “This is something that I would say ignites me. It just gives me a life for myself. …it’s just me doing what I want to do. Forget everybody else. Forget if they wish I’d lose, win, it’s about me doing what I want to do. “Forget what my wife and kids are, thinking about just this one moment, just stick with me and don’t feel sorry for me. Don’t worry about me. That’s all. “It has nothing to do with my kids. It’s all about me. Nothing to do [with them]. And sometimes I wonder, is that bad? Is that my ego, where it’s just to hell with everybody, I don’t care [that] my health is risked or anything, it’s just who I am. They knew I was that way before they married me. “They knew I was that way when I had them and then when they were kids, and I’m just going to always be there. I’m always going to test myself. I’m always gonna push the envelope. I’m always very nervous and apprehensive until it gets closer to the fight.” Tyson has expressed his confidence multiple times over the last few months, with his former sparring partner recently claiming that the champ will likely hold back against Jake to avoid “seriously hurting” the YouTuber. Jake, for his part, is equally confident in Tyson, refusing to draft a back-up fighter in the event of another cancellation. Their bout was initially scheduled for July 2024, but was pushed back to November after Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up on a flight.

Mike Tyson contract claim suggests he could lose money if he KOs Jake Paul – Dexerto
Mike Tyson contract claim suggests he could lose money if he KOs Jake Paul Associated PressFormer world champion Carl Froch has claimed rules in the fight’s contract could see Mike Tyson receive less money if he knocks out Jake Paul in the first round of their fight on July 20, live on Netflix. Froch, a former super-middleweight world champion, has raised concerns over the contract in place between the Paul and Tyson and the ramifications it might have for the fight. “From what I’m hearing with the contracts, allegedly, he gets paid less if he wins in round one, Tyson, or if he gets a knockout, he gets paid even less,” he told Safebettingsites.co.uk. “There’s restrictions in his contract based on how he wins. I don’t know if it’s been confirmed, but I’ve read somewhere that there’s a clause in his contract that means he’s going to earn less money if he goes out there and destroys Jake Paul. Because that’s Mike Tyson’s chance, isn’t it? “Comes out, still got all of his power, still got his punching power, still feels strong, can still throw a few decent punches, but his fitness and cardiovascular endurance are pretty much gone, his reflexes are shot to bits, he’s got no real timing, he can’t extend and he hasn’t got the speed to land shots.” “So the best chance Mike Tyson’s got is to get on Jake Paul or Jake Paul tries to grab hold of him and push him off, manhandle him and smash him on the side of the head,” Froch continued. “Mike Tyson has got a chance early on at the start of the fight if he connects, so I reckon Jake Paul is a massive favourite in a shambles of an exhibition, which I think shouldn’t be happening.” While Froch’s claims remain unsubstantiated, preparations for the fight are ramping up as we get closer to the July 20 fight date. Tyson, 57, suffered a shock medical emergency which sparked concerns as to whether the fight would indeed go ahead or not. However, the man 30 years Paul’s senior, has put any fears of the contest being called off to rest, after he confirmed that he was back to 100%, something that he claimed he he does not need to be at in order to beat ‘The Problem Child’. This is not the first time that Froch has spoken out over the pair’s fight. ‘The Cobra’ has already suggested that the fight is a “fix”, claiming that the bout is set to follow a script. The fight will be streamed live on Netflix, taking place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL‘s Dallas Cowboys. A mouth-watering $2 million VIP ticket package has already been revealed, ahead of their official sale on Thursday, May 16 at 12pm ET. The fight has divided opinion in the boxing world. Tyson Fury has insisted that the bout is “fantastic for boxing,” while Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, dubbed it a “freak show.” Some of the biggest concerns surrounding the fight are over the 30-year age gap between the pair, with fears touted by some that Tyson could potentially suffer major injuries during the bout. But Tyson’s trainer, Rafael Cordeiro, has dismissed fears concerning the boxing legend’s health, insisting that the 57-year-old is in great shape. Mike Tyson condition revealed after suffering medical emergency ahead of Jake Paul fight – Dexerto
Mike Tyson condition revealed after suffering medical emergency ahead of Jake Paul fight Associated PressMike Tyson reportedly required medical attention on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles, just weeks before his huge fight with Jake Paul. According to In Touch Weekly, passengers on the flight on Sunday evening received a message asking if a doctor was on board to help treat the boxing legend. The report claims Tyson suffered an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before the plane was due to land and he became dizzy. Once the plane landed in Los Angeles, it was delayed another 25 minutes as the passengers waited to get off the plane while the paramedics dealt with the former world heavyweight champion. It caused concern over whether Tyson’s fight against Paul, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which is scheduled for Saturday, July 20, would go ahead but a spokesperson has since told the Mirror that Tyson is “doing great”. An eyewitness told In Touch Weekly: “Mike had some kind of medical emergency on the plane and paramedics boarded. Before the paramedics arrived the flight issued an announcement asking for a doctor — the message even came on everyone’s screens. “There was a lot of buzz when he left the Admirals Club and got to the gate. A lot of fans recognised him, and a few people got pictures. “He was very accommodating and then he was escorted away from the gate because the flight was delayed because the gate person said that the plane was too hot because it had been sitting all day and had to cool down. “He was in first class, but we were an exit row and the stewardess was very chatty. They asked us to stay on the plane and landed so paramedics could enter. “She said something like, ‘He’s a really important passenger so we want to make sure he’s OK.’ I knew it was him, but I just mouthed the words ‘Mike Tyson’ and she nodded her head yes.” Following the news of Tyson’s medical emergency, Jake Paul responded to the reports on X, accusing the media of “make sh*t up before knowing the facts for clicks.” He further claimed that “nothing has changed” suggesting the fight is still on as planned. Tyson, 57, has warned Paul, 27, his life will be on the line when the two fighters meet in the ring. It will mark Tyson’s first professional fight since 2005, while Paul will look to improve on his 9-1 boxing record.

Mike Tyson boxing record: World title reign, controversy and Jake Paul fight – Dexerto
Mike Tyson boxing record: World title reign, controversy and Jake Paul fight Associated PressMike Tyson’s ferocity made him the most feared boxer of his era and has allowed him to continue competing at 57-years-old. Here’s Tyson’s boxing record and a list of his most popular fights ahead of his contest with Jake Paul. Tyson fought from 1985 until 2005. A three-year prison sentence from 1992-1995 interrupted his boxing career at the peak of his prime. Despite this, the New York native competed in 56 bouts, winning 50 fights and losing six times. The Cus D’Amato protégé came out of retirement and beat Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition in 2020. Despite the fight being postponed to the end of the year, he is now out to prove he can defeat Paul, who is 30 years younger than him. Here’s everything you need to know about “Iron” Mike Tyson’s boxing record as anticipation builds for his next bout. Contents Jesse Ferguson, 1986 – James Tillis, 1986 – Jose Ribalta, 1986 – Trevor Berbick, 1986 – Tony Tucker, 1987 – Larry Holmes, 1988 – Michael Spinks, 1988 – Buster Douglas, 1990 – Evander Holyfield 1, 1996 – Evander Holyfield 2, 1997 – Lennox Lewis, 2002 – Roy Jones Jr., 2020 – Jake Paul, 2024 – Jesse Ferguson, 1986 Tyson faced his first big test against future heavyweight contender Jesse Ferguson. Mike hadn’t seen past the third round in 16 of his previous 17 fights. Tyson viciously attacked Ferguson’s body and knocked him down with a right uppercut in round two. “Kid Dynamite” proved to be too much for the ascending heavyweight and forced his corner to throw in the towel in round six. James Tillis, 1986 Iron Mike looked like he had prior beef with James Tillis when they met on May 3, 1986. He threw punches after the bell in several early rounds. Tyson combatted Tillis’ light feet and quick jab with his signature “peekaboo” approach and triumphed in his first fight that went the distance. Jose Ribalta, 1986 Tyson was dwarfed by 6-foot-6 heavyweight Jose Ribalta but proved to be the more intimidating specimen on fight night. Iron Mike nullified the eight-inch height difference by relentlessly attacking Ribalta upstairs. The Cuban fighter became another knockout casualty in Tyson’s path toward title contention. Trevor Berbick, 1986 The 1984 Golden Gloves winner became the youngest heavyweight champion of all-time when he defeated Trevor Berbick for the WBC title on November, 22, 1986 at 20 years, four months and 23 days old. It took Tyson 27 fights to get his first crack at a world heavyweight title, but he made Berbick look silly as he kept the veteran on the defensive for most of the bout. He left Berbick stumbling with a right-left hook combination that scored him a TKO in round two. Tony Tucker, 1987 Tony Tucker posed a threat to Tyson in his quest to unify the division. Tucker held the IBF heavyweight title at the time they met on August 1, 1987. He could not defend his belt, nor could he best Tyson’s defense. Tyson used remarkable head movement and a low stance to dodge Tucker’s jabs and free himself up for timely counters. The bout went the distance, but Iron Mike took home the win. Larry Holmes, 1988 The hot-tempered Tyson revered Muhammad Ali growing up. After watching boxing legend Larry Holmes batter an aging Ali in 1980, a 14-year-old Tyson vowed that one day he’d pay Holmes back. Once he got the chance in 1988, Ali whispered in his ear before the opening bell, “get him for me.” The rest was history. A headhunting Tyson unloaded on the “Easton Assassin” with two knockdowns in round four before a barrage put him away for good in round five. Michael Spinks, 1988 91 seconds. That’s all it took for Tyson to knock out Michael Spinks and become lineal heavyweight champion. As Spinks’ manager Butch Lewis later revealed, the then-undefeated Spinks was afraid in the locker room before the fight. Meanwhile, he witnessed Tyson “punching holes” in his locker room wall before giving boxing its most iconic ring walk ever. That intimidation factor carried over into the fight, and afterward, Spinks retired from the sport. Buster Douglas, 1990 Everybody loves a good underdog upset story in sports, right? The reigning lineal champion was on top of the world when Buster Douglas showed up next on his schedule on February 11, 1990. Instead of the fight being another day at the office for Tyson, Douglas stood his ground and made Tyson uncomfortable with his reach advantage. Douglas almost got counted out after getting knocked down in the eighth round but returned the favor to Iron Mike with an uppercut followed by a 1-2-3 punch combination KO seen around the world. Tyson tasted the canvas for the first time in one of the greatest upsets in sports history. Douglas dedicated the win to his mother who died days before the fight while Tyson and Don King protested the outcome over the long count on Douglas’ knockdown. Evander Holyfield 1, 1996 Fresh out of prison, Tyson conquered the heavyweight division in 1996, winning the WBC and WBA titles in his third and fourth fights back. Evander Holyfield was next on his hit list that year. “The Real Deal” neutralized Tyson’s speed and power with frequent clinches and upward explosion, angering Tyson and throwing him off his game. Tyson won four rounds but Holyfield scored two knockdowns and was ahead entering round 11. He put his foot on the gas in that round and scored a TKO, handing Tyson the second loss of his career. Evander Holyfield 2, 1997 Tyson vs Holyfield 2 became the most infamous fight in boxing history, but not because of a memorable punch. Holyfield employed similar tactics from their first fight. Tyson showed similar frustration as a result. This time, Holyfield headbutted Tyson on multiple occasions when in close. At his boiling point, Tyson spit out his mouthpiece when clinched in the third round and shockingly bit off a piece of Holyfield’s ear. Lennox Lewis, 2002 By the time Tyson fought Lennox Lewis in 2002, he was over the hump. Albeit, there was still much hype around the fight, especially with Tyson’s striking sound bites in their press conferences. In the actual fight, it was Lewis who did most of the striking. He landed 193 punches as opposed to 49 from Tyson. This marked the end for Tyson as a title-worthy fighter. Roy Jones Jr., 2020 Tyson returned to the boxing ring in 2020 to take on Roy Jones Jr. in an eight-round exhibition. The former pound-for-pound king of boxing engaged in entertaining trash talk with Tyson leading up to the fight. Tyson’s training videos also went viral, showing off his otherworldly power at 54-years-old. “The Baddest Man on the Planet” delivered on fight night by stalking a mobile Jones Jr. and unleashing thunderous body shots that took their toll over the course of the bout. He won by way of split decision. Jake Paul, 2024 Shockwaves were sent around the world when Jake Paul’s next fight was announced to be none other than Tyson. Despite their 30-year age gap, the fight has captured the imagination and will represent Netflix’s first foray into live boxing. Paul’s crossover from YouTube star to boxer has seen him become one of the biggest draws in boxing, although his decision to fight a 57-year-old Tyson has drawn some ire from fans, experts and fighters. Nonetheless, everybody will be tuning in to see if Tyson can still hurt the younger fighter with his freakish power or whether it will prove to be a step too far for the boxing legend, in what has been confirmed to be a professional fight. The initial July 20 date that had been set has now been pushed back to some time between October and December this year in the wake of Tyson’s medical scare. The boxing veteran had a medical emergency mid-flight owing to an ulcer flare-up that left him dizzy and in need of treatment upon landing. Tyson has since confirmed he is fine, but the recovery period will mean that a fight between the pair will have to wait. A handful of names have thrown their hat into the ring to fight Paul instead, with Jones Jr even volunteering to take on ‘The Problem Child‘ on behalf of Tyson. For all the biggest results and upcoming fights this year, check out Dexerto’s 2024 boxing schedule.

Mike Tyson backed to KO Jake Paul by boxing legend who also returned from retirement – Dexerto
Mike Tyson backed to KO Jake Paul by boxing legend who also returned from retirement Naomi Osaka x Hana Kuma – YouTubeMike Tyson has been backed to knock Jake Paul “into next week” when they finally square off in November by a boxing legend who has been in a similar position. Ever since Jake Paul and Mike Tyson announced that they’d be fighting, critics have harped on about the age gap between them. Jake, 27, is 31 years younger than ‘Iron’ Mike, 58, with the boxing legend having not fought since 2020. Their initial fight date of July 20 was scrapped after the former heavyweight king suffered an ulcer flare-up. Yet, they rescheduled their clash at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, for November 15. Those critiques about the age difference have continued to rumble on. Now, former boxing champion Ricky ‘Hitman’ Hatton has weighed in. Hatton, 45, touched on the fact he’s been in a similar position to Mike. He backed out of retirement to return to the ring to fight Marco Antonio Barrera aged 44. “I think if Mike hits him, he’ll knock him into the middle of next week,” the former light-welterweight champion told Action Network. Hatton added that Mike “looks fantastic for his age” and “very fast and very explosive.” However, he’s backing Jake’s corner to urge the ‘Problem Child’ to try and tire him out. “I can see Mike by knockout if he is to win or if Jake is going to win then he will win on points,” the Brit predicted. Hatton also labeled Jake as a bit of “di*k” and disputed his claim that he’s going to retire Mike. “You’re talking about someone who is 58 and you’re saying ‘I’m going to put him into retirement’. I wouldn’t want to fight anyone at 58 years old,” he added. The YouTuber-turned-boxer has been supremely confident about his ability to beat Mike. However, his mom is “very scared” of the fight.

Mike Tyson addresses claims he’s “too old” for Jake Paul fight as he’s training again – Dexerto
Mike Tyson addresses claims he’s “too old” for Jake Paul fight as he’s training again Naomi Osaka x Hana Kuma – YouTubeMike Tyson has responded to fears that he’s “too old” to be fighting Jake Paul, and has even warned the YouTuber-turned-boxer about taking on Mike Perry. When the fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson was first announced, there were a number of critics who immediately pointed to the 31-year age gap between them. Add on to the fact that ‘Iron’ Mike hasn’t fought in four years, and it became a massive talking point. The two fighters had to jump through some big hoops to get the fight sanctioned in Texas, and former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder said it was “bad” that the commission had given the fight the go-ahead. That fight has been pushed back until November, but Tyson has already started training again, and responded to Wilder’s concerns that he’s “too old” to still be fighting. “Then let Mike get hurt. You don’t have to worry about paying my bills,” the heavyweight legend told Esquire magazine during a recent training session. “Everyone says this makes no sense, but he’s how old? He’s not who I am. He can’t go to Mongolia and have somebody know who the f*ck he is.” Tyson also believes that Jake can’t hurt him. “Can I be honest? I don’t think he can hurt me. Coach, I don’t think he can hurt me!” As noted, an ulcer flare-up for Tyson saw the fight being moved from the original July 20 date to November, with Jake taking on ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry in the meantime. Jake has already warned fans that, if he loses to the former UFC fighter, his clash with Tyson is in danger, and he got a similar message from Mike as well. “Mike Tyson called and was concerned about this fight jeopardizing the biggest fight of my career,” he said during the pre-fight press conference. “That’s what puts the pressure on me, and I love that. I’m not slowing down for anybody.”

Mike Perry reveals brutal injury Jake Paul caused with first punch of fight – Dexerto
Mike Perry reveals brutal injury Jake Paul caused with first punch of fight MVPJake Paul bested former UFC fighter turned bare-knuckle boxer Mike Perry via TKO, and his opponent revealed just how much damage the first punch of the match ended up doing. On July 20, ‘The Problem Child’ took down Mike Perry in the sixth round to improve to 9-1, putting his only defeat at the hands of Tommy Fury firmly behind him. Perry joined Paul on his podcast to discuss the fight and had some kind words for his opponent, saying he “did a good job” in the fight and he would be taking some time to let his rib heal up. According to Perry, his rib cracked after Paul hit him with his very first punch, completely changing how the match played out. “First 10 seconds, that first punch you hit me with, you popped me,” he said. (Segment begins at 1:30) Perry went on to explain, “Because look, I knew people were going to be like, ‘Put your hands up,’ Right, so I come out and I’m like this with my hands up and my rib was wide open. You hit me in the rib and I was like, ‘F**k that’s it, I’m putting my hands down.’ You popped it right away.” The BKFC star was, however, proud of his performance and the fact he stayed in the bout despite the injury. “I fought through it I mean there’s something, there’s pieces I can take that I can be proud of but you know, I think it was fair and square,” he applauded. “I had a moment or two in the third round where I was able to get you a bit and you were even bleeding.” Jake Paul is now looking ahead towards his long-awaited bout against Mike Tyson on November 15. Their fight was originally scheduled for July 20, the date of the Perry match, but it was postponed after ‘Iron Mike’ suffered an ulcer flare-up.

Michael Bisping slams Jake Paul as an “embarrassment” to boxing – Dexerto
Michael Bisping slams Jake Paul as an “embarrassment” to boxing YouTube: Michael BispingMichael Bisping has called out Jake Paul as an “embarrassment” to boxing for not picking his fights against what he considers to be any “real boxers”. Former professional mixed martial artist turned commentator Michael Bisping has once more got a bone to pick with Jake Paul, following the latter’s win against Mike Perry. This time, Bisping has agreed with some of the criticisms made by Conor McGregor, who took note of Paul’s “40-pound weight difference” and accused the influencer of being “juiced out of his head”. Reacting to the fight on YouTube, Bisping shared a similar sentiment and dubbed Paul an “embarrassment” to boxing. Bisping admitted that he was “behind” Perry coming into the fight, but determined that the “reality” was that the seasoned UFC fighter was “too small”. “There [are] weight classes in boxing, in combat sports, for a reason,” Bisping said, pointing to the “discrepancy” in size becoming glaringly obvious once both men were in the ring. While Bisping admitted Paul was the “better boxer” for being “more aggressive” and throwing “way more powerful shots”, he also stated that the fight was “ridiculous” and should have “never even taken place”. Bisping went on to say that other boxers watching the fight would even be “laughing”, claiming “somebody the same size” as Paul would have “had a field day with him.” “He was all over the place,” the commentator said. “His feet were crossing all over the place, he was swinging, it was wild, it was reckless. It wasn’t a technical performance.” He then slammed Paul for calling out UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira despite allegedly knowing “damn well” that the fight would “never materialize”. Bisping also roasted Paul for claiming to “want the toughest challenges” but focusing on fights such as his upcoming match with Mike Tyson: “The man’s 58 years old. “Why don’t you fight a real boxer?” Bisping quizzed, suggesting multiple boxers in the top 10 rankings who he insisted would “smoke” Paul with a “devastating knockout”. “That’s why I still don’t have respect because that was pure bully-boy tactics to cherry-pick someone half his bloody size… it’s not often I agree with Conor McGregor but I tell you what, he hit the absolute nail on the head.”

Michael Bisping brutally roasts Jake Paul over Canelo Alvarez call out – Dexerto
Michael Bisping brutally roasts Jake Paul over Canelo Alvarez call out YouTube: BS w/ Jake Paul; YouTube: Official Michael BispingJake Paul immediately sent shots at boxing legend Canelo Alvarez after defeating Ryan Bourland on Saturday night and Michael Bisping wasn’t having it. Jake Paul is now 9-1 in his short boxing career, with victories over former basketball players, internet personalities, and combat sports veterans. But Paul’s most recent win came relatively easily, as he barely broke a sweat while knocking Ryan Bourland out in round one. After the fight, Paul celebrated with his team before proposing a potential super fight between himself and a multi-time boxing champion. “Hey, Canelo [Alvarez], stop ducking. I want Canelo. Like I said, I’m the face of this sport,” Paul said after the fight. Bisping says Jake Paul is “disrespecting boxing” Many boxing fans quickly shut down that talk. And former UFC champion Michael Bisping also took exception to Paul’s call-out. On his YouTube channel, Bisping explained why Paul challenged Alvarez and how unrealistic a match between the two is. “He’s calling out Canelo because he knows damn well that fight is not going to happen. Canelo Alvarez would not wipe his ass with a Jake Paul payday,” Bisping said. “The man is one of the best boxers of his generation. He wants real tests. He doesn’t want a circus, sideshow, or freak show fights, okay? That’s what Jake Paul is doing.” Relevant discussion begins at 4:24. Bisping went on to say of the YouTuber, “Jake Paul took a weird route. Fighting basketball players and mixed martial artists who were past their prime, then he lost to Tommy Fury. “He rebounded against an old washed-up version of Nate Diaz, and now here he is against Ryan Bourland — every time, charging pay-per-view prices. Bisping’s disgust toward Paul was apparent in his tone during the video. He’s unhappy with the amount of influencers joining the boxing world. “The reason I said that he’s a fake is because if you’re charging pay-per-view, you have to give the people a real fight. Not handpicked, cherry-picked opponents.” The likelihood of Alvarez taking the fight is virtually zero, primarily for the reasons Bisping pointed out. Alvarez is a top-tier boxer at the highest level of the sport. Paul, although with a respectable 9-1 record, hasn’t faced anyone like this. Until then, Bisping and several fans will laugh off the trash talk toward Alvarez.

Littler, 17, has taken the darts world by storm. The youngster made it to the final of the World Darts Championship and went on to win the Premier League in what has been a meteoric rise in the sport. The Brit’s rise to fame has also extended beyond darts as he became a vital member of Girth N Turf FC, the EA Sports Pro Clubs team taking over the internet. But now it seems that Littler has his eyes on yet another sport. Alongside throwing darts with Michael van Gerwen and playing EA FC with Wayne Rooney – the teen wants to become the latest sporting star to try his hand at boxing. “I’d love to. Why not,” Littler told the MMA Hour when asked if he wanted to take part in a boxing match. “I tried it like once or twice when I was younger.” Pressed on who he would like to fight, he said: “It’s like a proper person, it’s not a darts player. Do I like him? Nah. Beavo.” Host, Ariel Helwani, had never heard of the TikTok star before, prompting Littler to explain that, “He just swallows potatoes whole on TikTok. He had like a Sunday roast whole as well. I don’t like him. He actually messaged me on TikTok saying do you want to get a kebab together, I just ignored him. “He used to get millions of views but now he’s only getting 100k, 200k. I don’t know what the turning point was, he just fell off.” Beavo hits back at Luke Littler After seeing the video of Littler, Beavo, the 23-year-old who became famous for eating his food without chewing, hit back at the teen as he took to TikTok to make his feelings clear over the latest comments. “Lukey Littler, what the hell are you doing calling big Beavo out,” he said. “I’ve seen you on a podcast calling me out. I’ve got everyone lining up… Why does everyone hate me? It’s the Angry Ginge gang (founder of Girth N Turf FC). “Listen, Luke Littler, go back to darts. Go back to playing FIFA [EA FC] with Ginge. Logan Paul wants to buy Evander Holyfield’s ear after Mike Tyson controversy – Dexerto
Logan Paul wants to buy Evander Holyfield’s ear after Mike Tyson controversy Associated PressLogan Paul has declared he wants to buy Evander Holyfield’s ear ahead of his brother Jake Paul’s mega fight with Mike Tyson on Saturday, July 20, in Arlington, Texas. Paul’s younger brother will take on “Iron Mike”, who, at his peak, was considered the most destructive heavyweight boxer on the planet. But one man Tyson failed to get the better of during his career was his former rival, Holyfield, who twice beat Tyson in world heavyweight title fights. The second fight between the pair in June1997 was shrouded in controversy after Tyson bit off a bit of Holyfield’s ear during a clinch. Tyson was immediately disqualified by referee Mills Lane as Holyfield retained his WBA heavyweight world title, but at some cost. The one inch piece of cartilage was found by an employee off the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, where the fight took place, but was never reattached to Holyfield’s ear. Conflicting reports of why the ear was never reattached have since emerged but the most common explanation is that it was simply misplaced while Holyfield was being transported to hospital. It is unknown whether the piece of Holyfield’s ear still exists but with Tyson set to make his return to the ring, aged 58, Logan Paul was keen to rediscover a bit of history ahead of the first press conference between Jake Paul and Tyson in New York on Monday evening. A member of the Most Valuable Promotions team was filmed telling Paul: “The janitor that was sweeping up the ring found it and they gave it back to Holyfield but he didn’t want to put it back on because he thought it looked cool. Paul then asked: “Evander has the missing ear?” To which the team member replied: “He might have it. They were going to sew it back on but he was like: ‘Nah, f**k it. It looks cool.’ “Whoever was sweeping up the ring, they found it like two hours after the fight.” Paul then laughed before turning to someone else before declaring: “I am trying to buy Evander’s ear.” The 29-year-old is no stranger to going searching for extravagant things to buy and has previously gone to insane lengths to buy the world’s most expensive Pokémon card. Jake Paul will take on Mike Tyson in the boxing ring at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday, July 20, in front of the Netflix cameras. Meanwhile, Logan Paul has a huge fight of his own coming up, as he challenges Cody Rhodes to become the WWE Universal champion at King and Queen of the Ring in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, May 25.

Logan Paul wants rematch against “beatable” Floyd Mayweather on one condition – Dexerto
Logan Paul wants rematch against “beatable” Floyd Mayweather on one condition Amanda Westcott/SHOWTIMEBoxer and WWE US Champion Logan Paul says he’s had talks to take on Floyd Mayweather in a rematch and wants to knock the 47-year-old out. Logan Paul went the distance with undefeated boxing great Floyd Mayweather back in 2021 and there’s been bad blood between the two ever since. For months after their bout, the influencer demanded Mayweather pay him for their match, insisting that he pony up some missing cash for their exhibition. Speaking with Graham Bensinger about how the fight would go if they faced off now, Logan revealed that he firmly believes he’d win. “I was so enthralled at the idea of fighting Floyd Mayweather, in my head he’s this 5’2 giant, but he’s just 5’2,” Paul explained. “He’s beatable. I’m a YouTuber and I went eight rounds with the greatest fighter of all time.” ‘The Maverick’ went on to say that he’d be willing to battle Mayweather again, only because he’s “excited” at the prospect he could be the only person to knock him out. “I would also request ten rounds, because I was coming alive at the end,” Paul added. The WWE star also revealed that he was asked to step in on short notice as a replacement fighter when Mayweather was scheduled to fight in Dubai, but said no because his goal would be to beat him. “I think it’s doable, I just need to train properly,” Logan proclaimed before turning hid attention back to the money. “And if I fought him again it wouldn’t be 85/15, it’s 50/50.”

Logan Paul reveals the only way he’d return to boxing amid WWE success – Dexerto
Logan Paul reveals the only way he’d return to boxing amid WWE success Associated PressLogan Paul has shared details about the future of his boxing career as he continues to make moves in the WWE as one of the company’s top talents. On July 20, Jake Paul bested Mike Perry by TKO, adding another victory under his belt as a fighter, but many fans have been wondering when his brother, Logan, could return to boxing. Unlike his brother, Logan hasn’t had the same level of success in boxing, having tied and then lost to KSI. He then followed this up with an exhibition bout against Floyd Mayweather before earning his first and only boxing win by defeating Dillon Danis via DQ. However, while his time as a boxer hasn’t been the greatest, Logan has shown he is a tremendous WWE wrestler and has held the US title for quite a few months. Following Jake’s fight, Logan was approached and asked about when he plans to return to the world of boxing, and it doesn’t seem like he plans to put the gloves back on anytime soon. (segment begins at 2:00) “I’ll only hop back in the ring with a fight that excites me,” he said. “I don’t have that desire to.” When asked about a potential rematch with Floyd Mayweather, The Maverick shut down the possibility. “No. No, I felt like I did the Floyd thing. You know, I need to be inspired by the dance partner. And I got a good thing going on in the WWE. I’m the United States champion, and I’m much better at wrestling than I am at boxing,” he admitted. Although Logan may not have plans to fight again right now, he did express interest in filling in for Mike Tyson to take on his brother after ‘Iron Mike’ had to postpone their match when he suffered an ulcer flare-up. Nakisa Bidarian, the co-founder of Jake Paul’s MVP has said that Netflix is interested in a potential Paul vs Paul bout with the right amount of build-up, so we’ll have to see if that ends up coming to fruition after the Mike Tyson fight in November.

Logan Paul next boxing fight: Jake Paul vs KSI proposition could tempt WWE star – Dexerto
Logan Paul next boxing fight: Jake Paul vs KSI proposition could tempt WWE star Associated PressLogan Paul’s next boxing fight could come on the same day as Jake Paul’s potential bout with KSI, if his younger brother gets his way. Paul (1-2-1) has enjoyed huge success in the WWE since he signed with the promotion in 2022. The American is the United States Champion and has risen to superstardom during his two-year stint with the company. But Paul is no stranger to the boxing ring either, having fought four times across his career – including a contest against the former five-weight world champion, Floyd Mayweather Jr. WWE has been the 29-year-old’s focus in recent months, but a new proposition – from his younger brother, Jake – could tempt him to put the gloves on for the first time since 2023. Here is all we know about who Paul could be fighting next inside the boxing ring. Logan Paul next boxing fight Logan Paul will be fighting Deji in his next boxing match, this February, if Jake Paul gets his way. Jake wants a brother vs brother showdown that will see him and KSI go head-to-head on the same night as Deji vs Logan. Deji (2-4-0), is the younger brother of KSI. The 27-year-old has beaten Swarmz and Fousey, while losing to the likes of Jake Paul and Floyd Mayweather Jr across the five years he has been active in the ring. Although the matchup is still unconfirmed, the proposition played out during a social media back and forth between Jake and KSI. The pair have a longstanding rivalry but have never met in the boxing ring. KSI has fought Logan twice, but now ‘The Problem Child’ wants to avenge his sibling as a pair. “KSI’s coach saying he is over 200lbs right now? So no weight excuses… Let’s run it for July 20th and then Paul Tyson in October / November,” he posted on social media. However, that idea was quickly dismissed. “I’ve already got a fight lined up in August,” KSI responded. “Instead of you fighting an OAP at the end of the year (no one wants to see this), fight me in December instead.” This prompted Paul to suggest early 2025 instead, after his rescheduled fight with Mike Tyson. “I just gave KSI and his forehead the opportunity again for July,” Paul wrote. “He said he’s fighting in August. Cool. I’m fighting in October/November. February it is, 200 lbs, MSG, NYC. Get it done @MostVpromotions.” Yet the two parties are still to agree on timings, with KSI eager for Paul to leave the Tyson fight alone and take him on at the end of 2024 instead. “You asked for 185 Jake you fraudulent t**t,” the Brit fired back. “The old folks home has run out of options. This is all just noise. You don’t really want to fight. December, let’s run it at 185. No bulls**t. No excuses.” Paul then threw in an extra sweetener, teasing the idea of both sets of brothers going head-to-head in a night of boxing that would see Logan vs Deji and Jake vs KSI on the same card. Given that Tyson vs Paul is set to go ahead between October and December this year, and with KSI fighting in August, a February showdown between the pair is looking like a very plausible option. Logan Paul last boxing fight The anticipation for Paul’s last fight against Dillon Danis was through the roof. The animosity between the pair was on another level, with Danis relentlessly targeting Nina Adgal, Paul’s fiancée, in a string of social media posts prior to seconds out. Paul had the last laugh on the night, however, as he outboxed Danis, eventually winning through disqualification after the former jiu-jitsu world champion tried to perform an MMA move in the dying seconds. In what was an embarrassing moment for the 30-year-old, he tried and failed to tackle Paul and take him down. It sparked a mass brawl at the AO Arena in Manchester, England as security guards flooded the ring. After the fight, Paul described Danis’ actions in the build-up to the bout as “inhumane“, as he apologized to Nina for “putting her through that kind of torment” by choosing him as an opponent. Logan Paul boxing record Overall, Paul’s boxing record stands at 1-2-1: one win, two draws and one defeat across his four fights so far. Although yet to knock any of his opponents out, Paul has also avoided being knocked out in any of his bouts to date. Logan Paul claims WWE is more difficult than boxing Floyd Mayweather Jr. – Dexerto
Logan Paul claims WWE is more difficult than boxing Floyd Mayweather Jr. Associated PressLogan Paul made a shocking claim on his recent Pat McAfee Show appearance, telling viewers that Kevin Owens — not Floyd Mayweather Jr. — is the toughest opponent of his combat sports career. Logan Paul has gone from a social media star to a bonafide WWE superstar. But fans will remember that Paul had a brief boxing run before his professional wrestling career began. Paul’s exhibition fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr., an undefeated former boxing champion, amassed over a million pay-per-view buys and helped build up the influencer scene in combat sports. In the lead-up to Wrestlemania 40, Paul appeared on the Pat McAfee Show and explained why fighting fellow WWE star Kevin Owens presents a tougher challenge than dealing with Mayweather Jr. “I can’t believe I’m about to say this,” Paul remarked. “Fighting Kevin Owens was harder than fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr.” The live audience — and McAfee’s crew — couldn’t hide their shock. An audible “woah” echoed throughout the arena. “Let me tell you something,” Paul continued. “Wrestling is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. There is no industry that requires the amount of skillsets like the WWE.” Paul says that when he’s boxing, he only has to focus on one thing — the man standing across from him. In the WWE, however, “The Maverick” claims that there are more variables than fans could imagine. “When I’m wrestling, I’m worried about 60,000 people in the arena, and it’s my job to make sure they got their money’s worth. And I take that very, very seriously,” Paul explained. Owens, a long-time WWE veteran, is lauded as one of the best in-ring performers in the company. He demands excellence from any opponent. Paul naming “KO” as his most formidable opponent says as much about professional wrestling as it does Owens. For WWE athletes, it’s all about putting on a show for every fan in attendance. In boxing, the only thing that matters is winning. That, Paul says, is the difference.

Jake Paul accepts Logan Paul’s challenge to fight in place of Mike Tyson – Dexerto
Jake Paul accepts Logan Paul’s challenge to fight in place of Mike Tyson X — Logan PaulLogan Paul told brother Jake Paul that he would step in for Mike Tyson after the boxing legend postponed their July 20 bout, giving the fans a shot at having a fight to watch after all. Logan and Jake began their fighting careers on the Aug. 25, 2018, KSI vs Logan Paul card, shifting from social media stardom to influencer boxing. Since that debut victory over Deji, Jake fought nine more times in the ring, compiling a 9-1 record overall. That success led to an upcoming match with former world champion Mike Tyson. As for Logan, he’s been just as busy, albeit with a different endeavor. The reigning WWE United States Champion has blossomed into one of the best in-ring performers in pro wrestling. After news broke of Tyson postponing his fight against Jake, ‘The Problem Child’ received a surprising challenge: A fight with his brother, Logan. Logan is Jake’s senior by two years, but his little brother has a much more extensive track record as a professional boxer. Sure, winning a WWE championship is nothing to scoff at, but very few of Logan’s pro wrestling traits translate to the boxing ring. Logan (1-1-2) has a draw with the illustrious Floyd Mayweather Jr. under his belt, with the lone win on his resume came via DQ after Dillon Danis imploded late in their match. Jake (9-1) has been victorious in all but one of his trips to the ring, with the only blemish being a narrow split-decision loss to Tommy Fury, half-brother of Tyson Fury. While it’s a fun thought, and it would be easy to sell a brother vs brother fight, it’s unlikely that the two ever share a boxing ring as foes. However, Jake fueled the fire by accepting Logan’s challenge, claiming that the loser “has to change their last name.” Still, according to Jake, he is planning to fight Tyson later in the year, but it will no longer be on the original July 20 date. Instead, Netflix confirmed that a decision on the rescheduled date will come “by the end of next week.” As such, Logan will have to wait in line if he genuinely wants a crack at his younger sibling.

Logan Paul blasts Ryan Garcia after B-sample confirms failed PED test – Dexerto
Logan Paul blasts Ryan Garcia after B-sample confirms failed PED test Associated PressBoxing star Ryan Garcia posted one of the most surprising upsets in recent memory when he beat then-undefeated fighter Devin Haney on April 20 only for the victory to be tainted by a failed drug test. Now, he’s getting called out by Logan Paul. The widespread shock and awe in the boxing community would be short-lived, as Garcia got popped for two failed drug tests. The first came a day before the Haney fight, with another positive test occurring the day of the match as well. One was for 19-Norandrosterone, which further testing would clear him from. However, the test for Ostarine was confirmed as a positive result after both the A and B-samples showed the drug in Garcia’s body. Per the boxing commission, there is a zero-tolerance policy with Ostarine. Even the smallest amount would get flagged as a failed test. Logan Paul, the reigning WWE United States champion, mocked Garcia after hearing news of the confirmed B-sample. Paul roasting Garcia comes off the back of a lengthy history of public spats between the two, including Ryan taking several jabs at Logan’s Prime hydration company. Those remarks about Prime led to Paul throwing haymakers of his own at Garcia over the past few weeks. The most notable instance was when he trolled ‘King Ry’ for getting knocked out by Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis last April. Garcia explained on the latest episode of BS w/ Jake Paul why he and ‘The Maverick’ don’t get along. And for once, the Victorville native kept it short and sweet. “I’m not cool with him,” Garcia said. “I just don’t like his vibe.” Now, Garcia’s fate is up to the boxing commission. The 25-year-old is facing a lengthy ban after his B-sample matched the positive A-test. However, when you look at Garcia’s social media feed, you’d never know his boxing career was in jeopardy. He posted a video of him getting a pedicure, looking completely unbothered. Garcia ended up deleting his string of posts that came in the aftermath. But the video still lives online after many boxing accounts clipped it. Following the recent findings, this odd saga is drawing to a close. Boxing insider Dan Rafael believes a decision on Garcia’s future will come at “some point this summer.”

Lennox Lewis, Jon Jones, & other stars react to classic Fury vs Usyk bout – Dexerto
Lennox Lewis, Jon Jones, & other stars react to classic Fury vs Usyk bout Associated PressThe Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury battle lived up to its billing, as the two heavyweight champions left it all on the line in a 12-round instant classic. Fury came out strong and commanded the ring, but Usyk flipped the script by nearly knocking out ‘The Gypsy King’ in a momentum-altering ninth round. Usyk cleaned up the final three rounds and ultimately took home the victory on the judges’ scorecards. However, it didn’t come without some controversy. One judge scored the contest in favor of Fury, while the two others felt Usyk did enough to have his hand raised. As such, the Ukrainian star became the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis accomplished the feat in 1999. The split-decision victory led to strong reactions from the Fury camp, as Tyson claimed he should have won, and his promoter, Frank Warren, agreed. But boxing legends who watched the match, along with several current combat sports stars, all agreed that it was an all-time classic matchup — regardless of the winner. Former UFC champions Alexander Volkanovski and Conor McGregor shared their thoughts, with Volk saying he “can’t wait” for the rematch expected later in 2024. Current UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones was in amazement by Usyk’s near-knockout in the ninth round while simultaneously showing respect for Fury’s ability to rebound. Terence Crawford asked for more respect on Usyk’s name after solidifying his claim as one of the best boxers alive. “He’s definitely a candidate for the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world,” Crawford said on X. BJ Penn agreed, calling Usyk a “legend” in the aftermath of the fight. Lennox Lewis, the last undisputed heavyweight champion in the boxing world, welcomed Usyk to “the club” as he joined an illustrious group of boxers who came before him as undisputed champs. Lewis released a video congratulating ‘Oleksandr the Great,’ claiming that Usyk’s victory proves “it is never too late to add to your legacy.” With both Fury and Usyk agreeing to an immediate rematch during post-fight interviews, ‘The Gypsy King’ will get a chance to redeem himself later in 2024. But if it’s up to Usyk, he won’t be relinquishing the undisputed heavyweight title that easily. No matter who wins, it’ll be another notch in both men’s legacies. All of this talk of a rematch has everyone asking one question: Why can’t Fury and Usyk fight again next week?

KSI wants to fight Jake Paul “this year” as boxing match looks more likely than ever – Dexerto
KSI wants to fight Jake Paul “this year” as boxing match looks more likely than ever YouTube: JJ Olatunji, Jake PaulMisfits promoter Kalle Sauerland claims KSI is hoping to face off with Jake Paul “this year” after years of beef between the two influencer-boxers. There are no two bigger rivals in the world of influencer-boxing than YouTube stars KSI and Jake Paul. Following KSI’s victory over Logan in their 2018 rematch, Jake has been vying for a chance at getting revenge for his big brother… and KSI has made no bones about his dislike for his business partner’s little sibling. The two have been feuding online for years, making offers and posturing via social media. However, nothing concrete has ever come about, with both creators accusing the other of “ducking” a match. Now things are looking more likely than ever, as per a statement from a source close to KSI. KSI wants to box Jake Paul in 2024 Despite KSI’s claims of retiring in 2024, he’s intent on getting back in the ring this year — and Misfits Boxing promoter Kalle Sauerland says he’s got his sights set on Jake. “[Slim] is always calling out KSI, of course, who’s back in the gym and working out,” Sauerland said in a February 26 interview with Fred Talks Fighting. “He’s made it very public he wants Jake Paul this year.” (Topic begins at 27:19) While Sauerland’s comment was quite vague and could have been referencing Slim (who has notably called out KSI on his YouTube channel over the past few months), Fred Talks Fighting retweeted a post from Happy Punch saying KSI was hoping to face off with Jake in 2024. That’s not all; Sauerland even says that he wants the two to face off in the Las Vegas Sphere for a true spectacle — a venue that seats over 17,000 people. For now, it’s still unclear if these two will ever actually fight, given that they’ve had beef for years with nothing to show for it. At the moment, Jake is gearing up for his next fight against former Gold Gloves champion Ryan Bourland on March 2 in his quest for boxing world domination.

KSI slams Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight after Netflix announcement – Dexerto
KSI slams Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight after Netflix announcement YouTube: JJ Olatunji, Jake PaulKSI has hit out at Jake Paul after it was announced he will face former world heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson in his next fight. Netflix blindsided boxing fans on Thursday when they announced Paul would face Tyson on Saturday, July 20, at Texas’ AT&T Stadium. The fight will be available to all Netflix subscribers without any extra charge but it is unconfirmed whether it will be a professional bout or an exhibition fight. Most Valuable Promotions’ co-founder Nakisa Bidarian believes the bout will be the “most watched event in modern boxing history”, while Paul has described the bout as a “fight of a lifetime”. KSI hits out at Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson However, Paul’s long time rival KSI is less than convinced. The pair have been on a collision course for years and both share a loss to Tommy Fury, brother of world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, inside the ring. Given the clamor to see KSI and Paul share the ring, the British YouTube star did not hold back with his verdict after Paul’s fight against the 57-year-old was announced. “50+ years old,” KSI said of Tyson via his X account. “No one wanted this. So sad to see man.” However, Paul took to X with a message of his own about the fight. “Promotion promotion promotion if I’m being honest it don’t need that,” Paul tweeted. “The biggest fight of the 21st century, in the biggest NFL stadium in the US, broadcast live, on the biggest streaming platform in the world…that’s the MVP way. “Whether you’re tuning in on Netflix or showing out in person, whether you’re team Paul or team Tyson, or whether you’re a lifelong boxing fan or watching your first fight, you’re not going to want to miss this event. “I could not be more excited to make this amazing fight available to all Netflix subscribers alongside the hardest hitter of all time, Mike Tyson, on Saturday, July 20th. “My sights are set on becoming a world champion, and now I have a chance to prove myself against the greatest heavyweight champion of the world, the baddest man on the planet and the most dangerous boxer of all time. Time to put Iron Mike to sleep.”

KSI says he would “slap” Adin Ross in the face as boxing feud continues – Dexerto
KSI says he would “slap” Adin Ross in the face as boxing feud continues YouTube: What’s Good PodcastKSI claims he would “slap” Adin Ross in the face if he sees him in-person after sending the Kick streamer a cease and desist order over his boxing event. British YouTuber KSI isn’t happy with Adin Ross after the Kick star attempted to recruit influencer-boxer ‘Deen the Great’ to fight on his ‘Brand Risk’ boxing card in March. However, Ross’s plan hit a snag, as KSI’s Misfits Boxing promotion claims exclusive rights to the boxer, meaning that Deen isn’t able to legally fight under another promotion. Misfits Boxing even sent Ross cease and desist order, who shot back at the company in a heated spat on social media. While Ross’s boxing card went forward on March 23, Deen wasn’t part of it… and now, it looks like things are more tense than ever between Ross and KSI. KSI opened up about his distaste for the Kick streamer in an episode of the What’s Good podcast on April 3, where he said it’s “on smoke” if he sees Ross in person. “With me and Adin, I’d slap him in the face,” KSI admitted. “It all started from the boxing stuff. It’s even to the point where I don’t even want to go on Kick now because of Adin. I don’t want to be associated with that platform or anything to do with him.” “I just think he’s a bit of a d**k head,” he continued. “Like yes, the competition’s good. He’s got his own boxing thing going on. Happy days. We’re not there to disturb that. …when you’ve got his fanbase allegedly doxxing our event and slowing it down for two hours, making people have to leave the venue, have the police come in…” (Topic begins at 5:30) Adin Ross’s moderators sent out a message urging the streamer’s fans to stop allegedly doxxing KSI and his family, with some even threatening to swat the YouTuber’s mother amid their legal back-and-forth. While KSI admitted that Deen the Great was to blame for starting everything, claiming the boxer tried to get out of his contract with Misfits, he accused Ross of “stirring the pot” by recruiting Deen to fight in his event at the same time as Misfits’ own boxing card. “It just put a sour taste in my mouth,” KSI said. “I was watching it and I was just vexed the whole time.” At the time of writing, Ross has yet to offer a public reply to KSI, leaving fans awaiting another chapter in this ongoing internet feud.

KSI roasts Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight with brutal April Fools post – Dexerto
KSI roasts Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight with brutal April Fools post Associated PressKSI trolled Jake Paul for agreeing to take on aging boxing superstar Mike Tyson in his next fight with a vicious troll meme on social media. KSI, who fought Paul’s older brother Logan Paul in a landmark exhibition bout on November 9, 2019, has been in a longstanding battle with both brothers in the influencer-turned-boxer sphere. The social media star posted a fabricated promotional poster on X advertising a fight between himself and 75-year-old boxing legend George Foreman, in a clear jab at the younger Paul’s upcoming bout against former heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson, who is in his late 50s. “I’m back baby! Fighting 75 year old legend and former champ. Don’t worry, age ain’t nothing but a number. Foreman hits harder and is faster than ever before!” The poster hilariously promoted the bout to have five-second rounds and no punching allowed as KSI pulled no punches in his dig at the younger Paul. The Paul/Tyson fight has not been ruled an exhibition or pro bout just yet. Rumors suggest that the fight could ultimately have two-minute rounds and require heavier 16-ounce gloves. An X user trolled KSI in return for being mad about not being the one to get a crack at the younger Paul this summer, a fight he’s wanted for some time now. Neither Jake nor Tyson have responded to KSI’s post. Paul, 27, will face Tyson, 57 in a heavyweight boxing exhibition bout on June 20. Even though Tyson impressed in his most recent fight against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, the last four years appear to have taken more out of the Hall-of-Fame boxer. KSI made his point clear with this joke, but it may not age well. Even though he’s up in age, Tyson is still considered the overwhelming favorite to not only beat but knockout the younger Paul this summer.

KSI reveals bizarre 4am text he got from Wayne Rooney for boxing fight – Dexerto
KSI reveals bizarre 4am text he got from Wayne Rooney for boxing fight YouTube star KSI has finally revealed the bizarre text he received from English football star Wayne Rooney at 4 am asking him for a boxing fight. KSI has helped shape influencer boxing into what it is today, with more influencers than ever putting on their gloves and stepping into the ring. However, it’s not just YouTubers and TikTokers stepping into the ring, with more athletes from other sports such as football and the NFL all hopping on the bandwagon. That also includes Wayne Rooney, with the former Manchester United star looking to go blow-for-blow with KSI for a hefty bit of cash. KSI reveals text from Wayne Rooney asking to fight In a recent SideCast episode, KSI revealed that Wayne Rooney sent him a message back in December of 2022, bizarrely asking the YouTube star at nearly 4 am in the morning if he’d be up for stepping into the ring. “Hi mate what you think of me and you having a boxing fight,” the message read. “I think we could generate a lot of money, you up for it.” Rooney added: “We could sell out a stadium with the right support and both make good money.” However, ‘The Nightmare’ isn’t up for the challenge just yet, as he wants to see the 38-year-old football star prove himself in the ring first before agreeing to fight. Earlier in February, Rooney revealed in a podcast alongside former Manchester United teammates Gary Neville, Roy Keane, and Jamie Carragher that he’s been in touch with Misfits regarding a potential boxing debut. Suggested opponents such as HSTikkyTokky have been thrown into the mix. But, we’ll just have to wait and see if he steps into the ring following his recent stints managing clubs.

KSI responds to Jake Paul fight request following Mike Tyson health scare – Dexerto
KSI responds to Jake Paul fight request following Mike Tyson health scare Associated Press; X — KSIJake Paul has shifted focus from Mike Tyson to KSI, as ‘The Problem Child’ offered the YouTube boxer a chance to replace ‘Iron Mike’ on July 20. Immediately after Tyson’s medical scare during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles, fans began wondering if Paul would seek a replacement opponent. Due to health concerns and at the behest of medical professionals, Tyson postponed his match vs Paul, potentially opening the door for someone else to step in. According to Paul, via his X account, he offered KSI the slot in front of a packed AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. KSI immediately shot down the idea of fighting in July, citing that he “already has a fight lined up in August.” Instead, KSI offered to fight Paul in December, which led to a fiery response from the Cleveland, Ohio, native. “I just gave KSI and his forehead the opportunity again for July. He said he’s fighting in August. Cool,” the 9-1 boxer remarked. “I’m fighting in October / November. February it is, 200 lbs, MSG, NYC. Get it done.” KSI called out Paul’s “fraudulent” response, telling fans that Jake “doesn’t really want to fight.” Jake didn’t respond directly to KSI again, but he sent another teaser to fans soon after the spat concluded on X. Jake Paul began his boxing career in 2018, fighting against KSI’s younger brother, Deji. ‘The Problem Child’ won that bout via decision, and he’s since gone 8-1 in the ring with his lone loss coming against Tommy Fury. As for KSI, he was the first to fight Jake’s brother, Logan Paul, as the two Prime Hydration partners feuded at the same 2018 card as Jake and Deji. The first fight with Logan ended in a draw. But the two would meet again, this time with the match going KSI’s way via split decision. In the time since, KSI and Jake have teased a potential bout, with each man calling out the other numerous times via podcasts and social media. Although Jake offered KSI the option to fill in for Tyson, it appears ‘The Nightmare’ will square off with the recently reinstated Amir Khan instead. Khan, a former boxing world champion, retired in 2022 after testing positive for Ostarine and thus received a two-year ban, lasting until April 2024. If KSI fights Khan in August, and Jake waits until October or November to box Tyson, which he’s suggested, then a potential match is likely off the table until early 2024. But Jake already knows the time and place he’s targeting for their bout. If it’s up to him, a fight vs KSI will take place in February at Madison Square Garden in New York City. A card consisting of these four men as headliners would be a full-circle moment for the pairs of brothers after the Paul’s influencer boxing journey began against KSI and Deji in 2018.

KSI potentially facing retired boxing world champion in next fight – Dexerto
KSI potentially facing retired boxing world champion in next fight DAZN / WassermanYouTube star turned boxer, KSI, may be stepping into the ring with retired boxing world champion Amir Khan in his next bout. Following a loss to the hands of Tommy Fury in October 2023, KSI has been gearing up to get back into the ring ever since. The Prime co-founder has eyed up a rematch with Tommy Fury, a mega-fight with Jake Paul, and even a bout with the likes of UFC star Conor McGregor. However, it looks like we’ll be seeing him touch gloves with a former boxing champion. After Mike Tyson suffered a recent medical emergency, his fight with Jake Paul has been left up in the air, which has lead to the YouTuber clashing with long-time rival KSI online. With the two firing shots at each other, Paul suggested that KSI may be stepping into the ring with Amir Khan after the British YouTuber revealed he has a fight lined up for August. Surprisingly, Khan didn’t keep quiet, responding to ‘The Problem Child’ in a repost on Twitter/X further suggesting that he will be going blow-for-blow with KSI — and then Jake’s next on the list. “If he dies he dies,” the retired boxer wrote. “Then f**k @JakePaul up.” “You will kill the forehead if you actually take it serious,” Paul hit back. “Then we can run it in February and I’m going to splatter you like Prescott.” Khan took a step back from boxing in 2022 after testing for the performance-enhancing drug Ostarine. The 38-year-old, who held light-welterweight world championships between 2009 and 2012, was slammed with a two-year suspension, which lasted till April 2024. Still, fans want to see KSI and Jake Paul finally cross paths. But, negotiations are proving to be difficult, with the two sides unable to agree on terms.

KSI mocks Adin Ross after Kick streamer claims Misfits boxing is suing him – Dexerto
KSI mocks Adin Ross after Kick streamer claims Misfits boxing is suing him YouTube: JJ Olatunji / Kick: Adin RossYouTube star KSI is hitting out at Kick streamer Adin Ross, who claims that he’s being sued by Misfits Boxing after announcing his own influencer-boxing event. The influencer-boxing scene is bigger than ever, especially after news of Jake Paul’s upcoming match against Mike Tyson broke the internet on March 7. However, it seems this town’s only big enough for a few influencer-boxing promotions, as Kick star Adin Ross claims KSI’s Misfits Boxing is suing him after announcing his own forthcoming boxing event. Ross plans on holding a boxing match between YouTubers Deen the Great and Adam Saleh on March 16, but says Misfits Boxing is scared of the competition in the space. Adin Ross shares legal documents amid Misfits lawsuit On March 8, Ross went live on Instagram claiming he’d been served papers by Misfits Boxing in response to his proposed event. “I’m being sued by Misfits,” he said. “Misfits served me because they’re insecure, and they can’t let me do my own thing. So that is crazy as f*ck, and it’s just sad, bro.” That’s not all; Adin even uploaded a photo of the supposed legal documents he’d received, which read: “This office has been retained by Wasserman Boxing Limited (“Misfits”) with regards to its exclusive personal rights to the boxer Nurideem Shabazz a/k/a ‘Deen the Great.’” “These exclusive rights extend to combat sports activities, including exhibitions,” the statement continues. Essentially, if the documents are legit, Misfits Boxing is claiming exclusive rights to Deen the Great – which means he isn’t able to legally fight under another promotion. KSI has since responded to Ross’s remarks in a series of memes, tagging the Kick streamer in a photo of the crying laughing and pointing emojis. “I mean bro, I don’t care personally,” Ross hit back. “I’m still doing it. You can try and sue me and Eddie. I swear to god, I don’t give a f*ck. March 16, Dean vs Adam is happening.” KSI hit back with another meme video, prompting Ross to hit back with an offensive caricature of a Jewish person. Thus far, it doesn’t look like the two have spoken out further about the situation, and Ross remains adamant that his boxing event will happen, hell or high water.

KSI makes his “final” fight offer to Jake Paul with one demand – Dexerto
KSI makes his “final” fight offer to Jake Paul with one demand KSI / Misfits BoxingBritish YouTube star KSI has made his last offer to long-time rival Jake Paul for the two to finally settle their beef in the ring. The two internet titans have failed to agree on fight terms numerous times over the last half-decade. But, now in a YouTube video on June 8, KSI has given his rival a final offer for them to go blow-for-blow. “Jake I’m going to be making you my final offer. May 2025, just so you have all the time in the world to be ready,” he said While KSI has always demanded for the fight to be held in the UK, the Prime co-founder explained he’s even willing to fight in the US just to make it happen. However, his one condition is that the fight is held at 185lbs. Timestamp at 0:55 KSI added: “You know what Jake? I’m tired of this bullsh*t. Get off the cycle, and let’s make this work. We both have weight to lose, and we both have plenty of time to do it. 185lbs is my final offer. Take it, or leave it.” Fans have waited years to see KSI and Jake Paul clash in the ring, with their beef going all the way back to 2018. However, several years later, we still haven’t seen the two go blow-for-blow. This is despite both YouTube stars promising fans a fight before the end of 2023. Recently, their feud has sparked up once again after Jake Paul’s fight with boxing legend Mike Tyson was postponed. While fans called for KSI to step up for their ultimate clash, he shot down the idea of fighting in July as he’s already gearing up for a bout in August. It appeared KSI would be stepping into the ring with retired boxing world champion Amir Khan in his next bout. However, in the same video, the YouTuber challenged both Slim Albaher and Anthony Taylor to a 2v1 handicap tag-team match for his return. Meanwhile, Jake Paul has confirmed that he’ll still be touching gloves with the sports’ greatest, with his fight with Mike Tyson rescheduled to November 15.

KSI explains why he’s giving back his Misfits boxing title – Dexerto
KSI explains why he’s giving back his Misfits boxing title DAZNYouTube star KSI has explained why he’s giving back his Misfits cruiserweight champion title, stating he has “other plans.” After kicking off the whole trend in 2018, KSI has been one of the pioneers of influencer boxing. Taking a brief hiatus from stepping into the ring, the YouTube star returned in 2022 with a bang, facing two opponents in one night. Not only that, his boxing promotion company Misfits landed a five-year deal with DAZN, putting more influencers than ever in the ring throughout 2023. KSI too had his fair share of fights throughout the year, touching gloves with FaZe Clan co-founder Temperrr, the ‘boxing billionaire’ Joe Fournier, and Tommy Fury in the highly anticipated Prime Card. KSI announces he’s giving back his Misfits boxing title Despite being given his first loss at the hands of Fury in late 2023, KSI still holds Misfits’ cruiserweight crown. However, on January 29, the Prime co-founder announced in a post on Twitter/X that he would be relinquishing his boxing title, explaining that he has other plans in the works. “I have enjoyed the honor of being The Misfits Cruiserweight Champion immensely,” he wrote. “I have other plans in the pipeline and it wouldn’t be fair for me to hold that title any longer so…” He added: “I am relinquishing the belt and a new champion will be crowned on the next Survivor Tag!” The announcement came following a call out from popular Misfits fighter Slim ‘The Hitman’ Albaher, who was gunning for a shot at taking on KSI for the title. With that said, it’s unclear what’ll be in store next for the British YouTube star, whether it be a fight with long-time rival Jake Paul or a bout with ‘The Notorious’ UFC star Conor McGregor who he’s been eyeing up for quite some time. KSI claimed it’d be unlikely he’d fight again. However, the YouTuber has since confirmed he’ll be getting back in the ring at some point in 2024 — but his opponent remains a mystery.

KSI boxing history: All opponents & fight results so far – Dexerto
KSI boxing history: All opponents & fight results so far Associated PressKSI has been a big name in boxing for over four years and owns a strong record against influencer competition in exhibition and professional bouts. Born Olajide Olayinka Williams “JJ” Olatunji, KSI is 4-1 in his boxing career. Olatunji’s win-loss total amounts to five fights, but his win over Joe Fournier on May 13, 2023 was overturned and ruled a no contest. Although KSI hasn’t completed since October 14, 2023, he told Logan Paul that he felt retired on Paul’s “Impulsive” podcast that fall. However, he’s since opened up about wanting to fight Jake Paul to cement himself as the best boxer in the influencer boxing space. Here’s everything you need to know how KSI achieved his 4-1 record as a boxer. Contents Joe Weller, 2018 – Logan Paul, 2018 – Logan Paul, 2019 – Swarmz, 2022 – Luis Alcaraz Pineda, 2022 – FaZe Temperrr, 2023 – Joe Fournier, 2023 – Tommy Fury, 2023 – Joe Weller, 2018 KSI took on YouTube star Joe Weller in his amateur boxing debut. He employed a good orthodox stance and led with his jab for much of the fight. Olatunji withstood a first-round flurry from Weller and dominated the rest of the bout, putting him away with a series of straight lefts and right hooks that forced the referee to call the bout. KSI crowned himself as the YouTube Boxing champion with the knockout over Weller under his belt. Logan Paul, 2018 KSI and Logan Paul’s exhibition bout on August 25, 2018 was historic. Two of the world’s biggest streamers generated massive hype for the fight with months of trash talk and an undercard featuring Paul’s younger brother Jake Paul. During the fight, the elder Paul imposed his size advantage early, but KSI used his mobility and footwork to outland Paul in the middle rounds. A late surge from Paul in round five was silenced by several huge power shots from KSI upstairs in round six. The fight ended in a majority decision draw. Both agreed to a rematch to settle who the true YouTube Boxing champion was. Beyond that, it forged a new niche influencer boxing space that has seen great success to date. Logan Paul, 2019 KSI’s rematch with Paul did more than bring out stars like Justin Bieber to the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. KSI vs. Logan Paul 2 was the Brit’s third boxing fight and first as a professional, without headgear too. He looked like a pro from the onset. The then 26-year-old took advantage of Paul’s patience in the early rounds and got the advantage on the scorecards with calculated hooks. His aggression paid off in the later rounds and he picked up a split decision victory to retain his self-proclaimed title. Swarmz, 2022 Now experienced, KSI set his sights a third YouTuber, Alex Wassabi, for a clash on MF & DAZN: X Series 001, but a last-minute concussion forced Wassabi to pull out. English rapper Swarmz got the bell as KSI’s new opponent. Before the fight, Swarmz told the DAZN broadcasting crew “I’m like Mike Tyson. I will shock everyone.” Unfortunately for him, he was more like one of Tyson’s opponents. KSI had him on the retreat for the entire first round and landed big punches upstairs and to the body before knocking him out with a 1-2 combination in round two. Luis Alcaraz Pineda, 2022 KSI did not need time to recover after beating Swarmz in convincing fashion. He went toe-to-toe with Luis Alcaraz Pineda as another replacement opponent. KSI looked to take Pineda’s head off. He let his right hand do the talking. While the social media influencer landed a couple of shots to the back of the head, he proved to be too much for the Mexican in the end. KSI won the inaugural MFB cruiserweight title with the win. FaZe Temperrr, 2023 FaZe Temperrr was the second fighter after Paul that looked like he knew his way around the boxing ring when he went toe-to-toe with KSI in 2023. But appearances can be deceiving. After getting tangled in close on a few exchanges, Olatunji found an opening in the FaZe Clan member’s guard late in the first round and connected on a vicious straight right hand that knocked him out. Joe Fournier, 2023 KSI’s showcased bravado in the ring at this stage in his career. He stared down Fournier while the referee laid the ground rules before the opening bell. It didn’t take long for the elusive KSI to weather Fournier’s repetitive 1-2 combo. He connected on a short left and followed that up with a stunning right hand that laid Fournier flat on the canvas for his best KO. Afterward, the decision was changed to a no contest due to KSI illegally elbowing the former WBA International light-heavyweight champion prior to the KO. Tommy Fury, 2023 This was the time for KSI to put all of his experience together. Tommy Fury was fresh off handing superstar Jake Paul his first boxing defeat and was out to do the same to Olatunji. The match went tit for tat, with both fighters clinching and going for the body on multiple occasions. The judges ruled the close fight in favor of Fury, who initially won by way of majority decision. Afterward, the ruling was changed to a unanimous decision win for the lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury’s younger brother.

Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall pulled apart in fiery press conference ahead of rematch – Dexerto
Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall pulled apart in fiery press conference ahead of rematch Matchroom BoxingJosh Taylor and Jack Catterall had to be pulled apart at the end of a fiery press conference ahead of their much anticipated rematch on Saturday, April 27. Taylor beat Catterall via split decision in February 2022 in what was a controversial fight many thought Catterall had won. Despite being knocked down in the fight, Taylor retained all four world title and his status as the undisputed super-lightweight world champion. Taylor has since lost his belts, after a first career defeat to Teofimo Lopez, but it remains one of the most anticipated rematches in British boxing when the pair lock horns at Leeds’ First Direct Arena. Things get heated in opening press conference In the first of two scheduled press conferences on Monday, the two fighters traded a number of jibes in front of a raucous home crowd in Edinburgh for Taylor. And when the fighters got together for a head to head shot, they had to be pulled apart after Catterall reacted to some trash talk by Taylor by grabbing his throat. Security separated the pair before Taylor shouted over to his rival, who had claimed during the press conference the Scot ‘couldn’t see straight’: “I can see straight now and you are f****d.” During the press conference, the Scottish crowd booed Catterall and his outspoken manager Sam Jones throughout. The pair head to Manchester on Tuesday for a second press conference before tickets go on sale later this week.

Joseph Parker’s hilarious call out for Dillian Whyte rematch goes viral – Dexerto
Joseph Parker’s hilarious call out for Dillian Whyte rematch goes viral Joseph Parker/XJoseph Parker has called out heavyweight boxing rival Dillian Whyte for a rematch in a rather unique fashion, and fans are loving it. Former WBO heavyweight world champion, Parker, is enjoying a renaissance in his career after back-to-back upset wins over former WBC world champion Deontay Wilder and WBO interim world champion Zhilei Zhang. Parker, whose record stands at 35 wins and three defeats to Anthony Joshua, Dillian Whyte and Joe Joyce, is now keen to avenge one of those losses. With Joshua in line for a shot at the winner of the undisputed world title fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk next month, and Joyce back towards the bottom of the heavyweight queue after suffering successive losses to Zhang, Whyte is the option Parker is pursuing. And Parker has chosen to call him out in unique fashion, recording a video of himself miming to the tune of Take That’s hit “Back for Good”. In the video, Parker uses the lyric “I have a picture of you beside me” to turn towards a photo of Whyte, before then referencing the next line “I’ve got your lipstick marks still on my coffee cup,” with a mug with Whyte’s “Body Snatcher” nickname emblazoned on the front of it. Tweeting the video out to his followers, Parker accompanied the call out with a message which read: “I want you back for good, Dillian Whyte. If not, I’m moving on.” Boxing fans loved Parker’s unique call out and took to the comments to let him know about it. One fan replied: “Best call out ever,” while another said: “I’m not sure there is a more likeable guy in the world of boxing than Joe Parker.” Whyte is yet to respond to the call out on social media but will likely welcome the bout as he looks to navigate his way back towards another world title shot. The 35-year-old’s only world title shot ended in defeat in 2022, when he was knocked out by Fury at Wembley Stadium for the WBC belt. Whyte returned to the ring for the first time in 14 months last month with a stoppage win over Christian Hammer.

Joseph Parker stars in hilarious ‘The Office’ parody ahead of next fight – Dexerto
Joseph Parker stars in hilarious ‘The Office’ parody ahead of next fight DAZN/Joseph ParkerJoseph Parker’s search for his next opponent in the boxing ring took yet another comedic turn after he shared a video mimicking an iconic moment from the hit TV show The Office. Parker is no stranger to starring in viral clips that show the 32-year-old’s humorous side. The New Zealander called out Dillian Whyte for a rematch, singing along to Take That’s hit Back for Good. After Whyte, Parker then set his eyes on Anthony Joshua, this time to the tune of Ed Sheeran’s song Lego House. The former WBO heavyweight world champion has now covered another classic song, but this time it is from David Brent’s catalogue – the UK’s version of Michael Scott in the British version of The Office. Parker and his team recreate one of the most memorable moments from the series where Brent gets out a guitar during an employee training seminar and stars to sing the catchy tune, Free Love Freeway. Alongside the video, Parker wrote: “Team Parker office meeting discussing next fight options went really, really well!” Parker is still waiting to lock in plans for his next fight after enjoying an upturn in form, beating Zhilei Zhang and Deontay Wilder in his last two fights. A rematch with Joshua is still on the cards, but AJ has his eyes set on the winner of Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk before he entertains the idea of a possible second bout with Parker. Joshua got the better of Parker the last time the pair met, but the latter’s impressive performances over Zhang and Wilder give cause to get excited about a repeat of their 2018 showdown in Cardiff. AJ won by unanimous decision that night, yet six years later the pair now stand as one of the most exciting matchups in the division should an agreement be reached.

Joseph Parker goes viral again with brilliant call out for Anthony Joshua rematch – Dexerto
Joseph Parker goes viral again with brilliant call out for Anthony Joshua rematch Joseph Parker/XJoseph Parker has produced another hilarious callout video, this time targeting a rematch with former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. Parker went viral earlier this month when he produced a call out video to heavyweight rival Dillian Whyte with his own unique version of Take That’s hit “Back for Good”. In the video, Parker used the lyric “I have a picture of you beside me” to turn towards a photo of Whyte, before then referencing the next line “I’ve got your lipstick marks still on my coffee cup,” with a mug with Whyte’s “Body Snatcher” nickname emblazoned on the front of it. Tweeting the video out to his followers, Parker accompanied the call out with a message which read: “I want you back for good, Dillian Whyte. If not, I’m moving on.” But after getting no response from the “Body Snatcher”, Parker has now turned his sights to another former rival in Joshua. In a tweet accompanied with the message: “Let’s build a LEGO ring for Parker v Joshua 2,” Parker has recorded a video of himself alongside Ed Sheeran’s hit single: “Lego House”. In the video, Parker is seen reminiscing over footage of the first fight between the pair and manifesting a rematch in a notebook which says he is ready for a rematch. The video ends with two Lego figurines inside a Lego ring with the faces of Joshua and Parker attached to their heads. Boxing fans on X were loving it, with one fan tweeting: “Loving the call outs, your stock has risen so much with your last few fights. Always thought you was more effective as an attacking front foot fighter, hope you get all the fights and riches you deserve.” Another fan added: “Joseph Parker is the GOAT at making call out videos,” while another said: “Love Joe Parker, man. Rematch would be awesome here. AJ not a man to turn down a challenge either.” Joshua recently hinted his next fight will be in August and a Parker rematch may make sense. Joshua is in line to face the winner of Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk, who fight for all four world heavyweight titles next month. But there is believed to be a rematch clause for that fight and, if that is the case, Joshua will need a fight between facing the winner of that rematch and his win over Francis Ngannou last month. Joshua and Parker first met in a world heavyweight title unification fight in Cardiff back in 2018. AJ emerged victorious that night with a unanimous decision win. Parker has since lost to Whyte and Joe Joyce but is enjoying a renaissance at the top of the heavyweight division after two impressive wins over Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang. As such, a rematch between Joshua and Parker could well be the hottest fight in the division aside from Fury vs Usyk.

Jose Mourinho stunned after Tyson Fury link up at Anthony Joshua fight – Dexerto
Jose Mourinho stunned after Tyson Fury link up at Anthony Joshua fight Associated PressLegendary football manager Jose Mourinho was caught off guard by the size of Tyson Fury after he met up with the Gypsy King ahead of Anthony Joshua’s fight with Francis Ngannou. The former Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid boss is no stranger to being ringside as a big fan of boxing. The 61-year-old Portuguese manager flew out to Saudi Arabia to watch Joshua take on Ngannou but took the opportunity to rub shoulders with some – quite literal – giants of the sport. Jose Mourinho shocked by Tyson Fury size Standing at a towering 2.06m (6ft 9in), Fury loomed over Mourinho 1.76m (5ft 7in) as they posed for a photo ahead of AJ’s fight in Saudi Arabia. Taking to Instagram, Mourinho wrote: “Bigger than I thought …[h]uge!!!! [Tyson Fury]. Thanks a lot for the invitation [Turki Alalshikh].” Fury is currently recovering from a freak sparring injury that left him needing 11 stitches following a cut to his eye, an injury that seems to have knocked him out of commission for official bouts. This accident saw his fight with Oleksandr Usyk postponed, with a new date now scheduled for May 18. However, Fury doesn’t seem interested in letting this injury keep him down for long. Speaking ahead of Joshua vs Ngannou, Fury reassured fans he would be fighting Usyk “cut eye or not”. Mourinho, meanwhile, finds himself without a club after he left his position at Italian Serie A side AS Roma back in January. ‘The Special One’ departed Roma earlier this year after a poor run of results left the Italian giants sat ninth in the league.

Jorge Masvidal reveals why the UFC won’t let him fight Jake Paul – Dexerto
Jorge Masvidal reveals why the UFC won’t let him fight Jake Paul Associated PressJorge Masvidal is yet another former MMA star transitioning to the boxing world. He will fight Nate Diaz in June, but ‘Gamebred’ recently revealed why a fight with Logan Paul, not Jake Paul, is more likely. Once a fierce knockout specialist in the Octagon, Masvidal decided to step away from the promotion in 2023. He and Dana White reportedly agreed to a three-fight deal, allowing Masvidal to fulfill his boxing dreams before returning to the UFC. His first boxing opponent comes in the form of another former UFC superstar — Stockton, California’s own, Nate Diaz. The two men will compete in a 10-round bout on June 1 in the light heavyweight class. But ‘Gamebred’ is already thinking about which fights he wants next. Naturally, it didn’t take long for a reporter to name-drop the Paul brothers while discussing future plans with Masvidal. The 39-year-old got asked about potentially fighting Jake Paul, and the former BMF Champion quickly shot down that idea, explaining why it’s not happening anytime soon. “Not with Jake Paul, it’s 100% more likely with Logan Paul,” Masvidal said. “The UFC allowed me to do some boxing matches, but Jake has said some not pleasant things about Dana White. “So, UFC has basically said ‘F*** you! We’re not doing to let you go get money with our biggest draws.’ “So, I could fight Logan Paul but Jake Paul… unless he was to walk around here and say something stupid, I can’t touch him in a ring.” Masvidal, still under contract with the UFC, says he received special permission from White, so he wants to do right by his boss and not associate with Jake during his boxing run. Instead, the American called his shot at Tommy Fury, half-brother of Tyson and an undefeated professional boxer in his own right who has dipped his toes in the influencer boxing realm with victories over Jake Paul and KSI. “Tommy Fury interests me,” Masvidal remarked. “We could go to England and sell out some arenas over there. He’s got some matches, and he has a win over Jake. “And the UFC would let me fight Tommy. So, I’d definitely go over there and throw down with Tommy at some point.” Masvidal’s showdown with Diaz represents the first bout of a reported three-fight boxing deal, and if Fury becomes opponent number two, that could leave Logan Paul as the final leg of the journey. But one thing is certain based on his recent comments: Masvidal will not be sharing a boxing ring with Jake Paul while he’s still under contract with the UFC.

John Fury’s brilliant reaction after meeting Anthony Joshua ahead of Francis Ngannou fight – Dexerto
John Fury’s brilliant reaction after meeting Anthony Joshua ahead of Francis Ngannou fight Matchroom BoxingJohn Fury is known for his no-nonsense, trash talk in boxing circles during the build-up of mega fights involving his sons Tyson Fury and Tommy Fury. Tyson, the WBC heavyweight world champion, has a long held rivalry with fellow Brit Anthony Joshua and there is genuine hope the pair could collide for the undisputed heavyweight world title later this year. Fury must get past WBA, IBF and WBO world champion Oleksandr Usyk in May first, though, while Joshua has to beat former UFC heavyweight world champion Francis Ngannou on Friday, too. John Fury meets Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia Fury’s youngest son, Roman, is on the undercard of Joshua vs Ngannou and he is in Riyadh ahead of Friday’s mega fight in Saudi Arabia. So, Joshua and Fury Sr inevitably crossed paths for the first time on Sunday and despite Fury’s propensity for controversial trash talk, he was refreshingly respectful towards his son’s rival. The pair embraced, before Joshua said: “How are you? I have watched everything you have said.” Fury then laughed and then said to the watching media: “He is a f*****g big fella, isn’t he?” Joshua replied: “It is land of the giants, isn’t it? The heavyweight division is changing up.” Fury then said it was “great to meet” Joshua as conversation then turned towards Roman, before the pair wished each other luck and went their separate ways. One fan tweeted: “Big John is in awe of AJ. It’s all just trash talk at the end of the day,” while another added: “Love the respect!” Joshua was participating in a media day ahead of the fight week schedule ramping up before Friday’s main event in the Saudi capital.

Joe Rogan ‘wishes’ Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson wasn’t happening – Dexerto
Joe Rogan ‘wishes’ Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson wasn’t happening YouTube: Joe Rogan Experience/Damon Elliot ShowJoe Rogan has revealed why he ‘wishes’ Jake Paul and Mike Tyson’s fight wasn’t happening, but also wants to “support” the boxing legend’s quest for one more fight. Ever since Jake Paul and Mike Tyson announced that they would be fighting, there have been plenty of critics. They’ve all pointed to the massive age gap between the two, as well as Tyson’s health issues. Joe Rogan, however, has been a big supporter of Tyson stepping back into the ring and fighting the YouTuber-turned-boxer. The UFC commentator believes the 58-year-old can win the “dangerous” fight too, but questioned his ability to match Jake. Now, the podcast giant has said that he ‘wishes’ the fight wasn’t going ahead, but “supports” Tyson in wanting to get into the ring for one last time. “I wish he didn’t do it, I wish it wasn’t a thing,” he said during episode 162 of the JRE MMA Show when asked his thoughts on the fight by Belal Mohamed. “I wish it wasn’t a thing where a 58-year-old guy was going to fight a 28-year-old. That said, I fully support his desire to do it. What, is he going to live forever? No, he’s not going to live forever. Maybe he wants one more shot at it. Maybe his body can do one more fight. I don’t know.” Timestamp of 1:51:29 Rogan reiterated that ‘Iron’ Mike looks “great” on the mitts, but wants to see him actually spar and see how much he ‘has left’ in his body. “What you want to see is him sparring. You want to see him hitting the bag for multiple rounds. Let’s see three rounds hard on the bag. I want to see what you can do, I want to see how your feet move, I want to see what it looks like if you’re off balance when you’re throwing combinations,” the JRE host continued. When it comes to concerns about Mike’s health, Jake doesn’t appear to have any. He won’t draft in a backup fighter yet. However, if he does, it could be Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. who answers the call.

Joe Rogan warns Jake Paul about “terrifying” Mike Tyson – Dexerto
Joe Rogan warns Jake Paul about “terrifying” Mike Tyson Associated PressPodcaster Joe Rogan is following in a long line of commentators offering their opinion on the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Netflix match. Months before the Paul vs. Tyson bout was confirmed, Rogan had WWE legend Ric Flair on his podcast to discuss the potential match. The two commended Paul for his success against Tommy Fury, but both men pumped the brakes at the thought of a Tyson showdown. Now, with the fight officially set for July 20, the conversation is as relevant as ever. Here’s what Rogan and Flair had to say. Joe Rogan warns Jake Paul about Mike Tyson “Just forget that Jake Paul is a YouTube guy and watch him box. The kid can fight,” Rogan remarked. “That Tommy Fury fight really showed that. I mean, it goes to a split decision against a legit undefeated boxer.” Guest Ric Flair said, “I’ll tell you what, the one thing he doesn’t want to do is fight Mike [Tyson].” Rogan interrupted, “No! Why? I don’t give a f*** if he’s 55; that’s still Mike Tyson.” Flair agreed, “Mike’s in good shape, too. He trains every day.” “That guy can still f*** you up. I don’t give a f*** if you think he’s 55 years old. That guy will hurt you,” Rogan continued. Rogan also dismissed the idea that Tyson’s advanced age could even the scales with Paul. “It’s still a 55-year-old. But at 55, the power is the last thing to go. And the thing is, the speed is still there. He’s f****** terrifying!” Combat sports fans are divided on Jake Paul’s chances. Some believe Tyson, a former world champion, should plow through Paul with his trademark power. Others claim that “Father Time” won’t allow Tyson to turn back the clock for a night, instead picking Paul to outlast the aging star. As for Rogan and Flair, they didn’t mince any words. Tyson is still terrifying, and if Paul wins, it won’t come easy, according to the two.

Joe Rogan explains how Mike Tyson can beat Jake Paul in “dangerous” fight – Dexerto
Joe Rogan explains how Mike Tyson can beat Jake Paul in “dangerous” fight YouTube/JRE/Most Valuable PromotionsJoe Rogan thinks Mike Tyson could pull off the upset and beat Jake Paul even though he’s concerned about the retired boxer’s health going into the match. On November 15, Mike Tyson will be taking on Jake Paul in Netflix’s first-ever live boxing event and it’s promising to be a battle unlike any other. At 58-years-old, Tyson will be the oldest opponent Jake Paul has fought, and as such, there have been plenty of people in the combat sports world who fear for his wellbeing. Joe Rogan is one of those people and expressed as much during an episode of his JRE podcast with guest Russell Crowe. During the episode, Crowe asked Rogan for his thoughts on Paul and the upcoming match against Tyson. After praising Jake’s combat ability, noting that the YouTuber is “dangerous,” Rogan explained that his opponents often underestimate him because of his status as an influencer. (segment begins at 2:18:00) “He’s a very good boxer. He trains hard. He can fight,” Rogan said before turning his attention to the Tyson bout. “58 is 58, no matter what. But 58-year-old Mike Tyson is not 50-year-old Mike Jones who lives down the street. It’s a different kind of human being and he can still knock your f**king head into another dimension if he can catch you.” According to Rogan, in order for Tyson to beat Paul, he’s going to need to keep up with ‘The Problem Child’ and that’s where the uncertainty lies. “Can he catch a 28-year-old guy who’s on the top of his career and winning legitimate boxing matches?” Rogan pondered. “If Mike and him are fighting and he can’t catch him and Mike has bad knees or his back’s bad… I mean, I don’t know what’s going on with him physically.” Joe further stressed that in Tyson’s training footage, he’s been looking good, but it’s hard to judge him hitting pads if he can last every round against Jake. For his part, Tyson hasn’t appeared concerned about facing off against the influencer in his return to the ring, even shrugging off Logan Paul’s warnings that his brother was not to be messed up when they face off in November.

Joe Rogan backs Jake Paul to beat “terrifying” Mike Tyson – Dexerto
Joe Rogan backs Jake Paul to beat “terrifying” Mike Tyson Spotify: Joe Rogan/YouTube: ShowTime SportsJoe Rogan believes you can’t bet against Jake Paul in his upcoming fight with Mike Tyson, but says the 57-year-old still looks like he has “terrifying” power in his punches. Back in March, Jake Paul and Mike Tyson shocked the internet and boxing world when it was announced that they’d actually be fighting. The pair had, a few years ago, teased coming to blows but played things down by apparently demanding massive fees. They will finally be facing off in July, and they’ve both started dishing out trash talk in trademark style. Jake has said that one of them will have to “die” when the fight is all said and done, while ‘Iron’ Mike is urging the ‘Problem Child’ to not get cold feet before fight night. Despite Tyson’s historic boxing career, the 31-year age gap between them has seen the YouTuber-turned-boxer tipped as the favorite. Joe Rogan, who has praised Jake many times before, isn’t surprised by that but believes Tyson still looks like an incredibly scary fighter. “A legitimate boxer? Yes. People mocked me when I was saying that before but now I think people are coming around. The way I look at it, I say if this kid wasn’t a YouTuber, if he wasn’t some guy you know when he was 16 years old on YouTube and you just saw him box, and you saw him knockout former UFC champions, beat legitimate boxer, you’d say this kid can f**king fight. Nothing he’s doing looks wrong,” Rogan said during episode 2148 of the JRE Podcast. “He’s fighting well, he looks good. The fact that he’s willing to fight Tyson, even if Tyson is 57, just the fact he’s willing to take a chance on Mike Tyson not being able to do what he used to do.” Rogan told his guest, Sebastian Maniscalco, that Tyson “hasn’t lost everything,” and that’s clear from his training videos. “You see him hit those pads, he has not lost everything. He’s still not normal, but he’s still like a professional Heavyweight boxer. He’s still terrifying. You never bet against a 27-year-old fighting a 58-year-old.” The UFC commentator hasn’t been shy in believing Tyson can get the job done, and has previously said he looks “terrifying” despite his old age. So, he’ll be an interested spectator on fight night.

Joe Rogan admits he’d be “bummed out” if Jake Paul does this in Mike Tyson fight – Dexerto
Joe Rogan admits he’d be “bummed out” if Jake Paul does this in Mike Tyson fight Netflix / YouTube: Jake PaulJoe Rogan admitted he would be really “bummed” if YouTube star Jake Paul manages to beat Mike Tyson in a specific way in their highly-anticipated boxing match this November. Jake Paul is facing one of his most prolific opponents yet in boxing legend Mike Tyson. The pair are set to touch gloves on November 15, 2024, and debates have been heated as to who fans think will walk away with the W. Some believe Paul’s youth will take the day, while others say Tyson’s years of experience are enough to outdo the YouTuber. For now, it’s anyone’s guess as to who’ll win… but Joe Rogan says he’ll be majorly disappointed by one possible outcome. During a September 2024 episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, the podcast host admitted that he would be “bummed out” if Jake Paul ended up winning by knockout. Although he feels Jake Paul is easily “dismissed” in the boxing world because of his status as a YouTuber, he believes the influencer is “perfectly capable” of knocking out Mike Tyson. “He has real power,” Rogan said. “I really hope he doesn’t knock Mike Tyson out. I would just be real bummed out to see Mike get KO’d at 58 years old. “If [Jake] zigs when he should have zagged, Mike can close the distance in a way that he doesn’t expect. And Mike also has layers upon layers of attacks that are in his mind. He’s forgotten more about boxing than Jake Paul has ever remembered.” (Topic begins at 1:05) Joe Rogan has spoken at length about Paul vs Tyson. Looking at his past statements on the subject, he’s backing Jake to take the W – but won’t discount the “monster” that is Mike Tyson. “58-year-old Mike Tyson is not 50-year-old Mike Jones who lives down the street,” he said in a previous episode. “It’s a different kind of human being and he can still knock your f**king head into another dimension if he can catch you.” In fact, Rogan claimed that he “wished” the fight wasn’t happening at all, but still supports Tyson’s desire to test his skills against Paul at his age.

Jake Paul’s agent slams “fake news” with “scary” Mike Tyson update – Dexerto
Jake Paul’s agent slams “fake news” with “scary” Mike Tyson update Netflix/ Most Valuable PromotionsJake Paul’s agent, Nakisa Bidarian, has hit back at people for spreading “fake news” over Paul’s fight with Mike Tyson, as he claimed that the 57-year-old is “looking scary” ahead of the bout. Despite Paul denying several rumors regarding apparent rules that were thought to be enforced in his fight with Tyson, this has not stopped speculation growing over what restrictions might be in place when the pair enter the ring. Yet Bidarian has now bit back at reports that have suggested anything from the use of headguards and 16 oz gloves, to rounds lasting two minutes and no judges being present. “Breaking news! There is no news, stop spreading fake news,” he said in a video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter). “There’s no truth to all this stuff around Jake Paul [vs] Mike Tyson. “Here’s what is true. One: Mike Tyson is in unbelievable shape and is training like he hasn’t in many, many years and is looking scary for Jake Paul. “Two: there are no tickets for sale. If you bought tickets, those are tickets that don’t exist. “Three: over 85,000 people have signed up to get access to tickets when they go on sale. This is going to be a historic event.” Paul and Tyson will go toe-to-toe at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL‘s Dallas Cowboys on July, 20 – live on Netflix. The fight has divided opinion in the world of boxing. Tyson Fury has insisted that the bout is “fantastic for boxing”, while Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, labeled it a “freak show“.

Jake Paul warns either he or Mike Tyson will “die” in boxing match – Dexerto
Jake Paul warns either he or Mike Tyson will “die” in boxing match YouTube: Jake PaulYouTube star Jake Paul says it’s his mission to “end” boxing legend Mike Tyson as the two fighters gear up for their bout on July 20. Internet icon Jake Paul is preparing for the biggest fight of his life against Mike Tyson… but he believes only one man will leave the ring alive, Thunderdome style. In an interview with USA Today at Formula One’s Grand Prix of Miami, Paul admitted that he has to “end” Tyson or risk losing his own life. “I love Mike,” Paul said. “I’m super respectful of him. It’s an honor to be in the ring with him. But I have to end him. “It’s war. All is fair in love and war. I love the guy, but as soon as it turned into a pro fight, one of us has to die.” Paul’s remarks aren’t unfounded. Boxing fans the world over are worried for the YouTuber’s safety, with the likes of Derek Chisora urging him to wear headgear in the event of a ‘serious’ head injury. The YouTuber’s comments come after his bout with Tyson became officially sanctioned in late April, claiming that his opponent wanted their match to be the real deal. The two will meet on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Their fight will be live streamed on Netflix in a first for the streaming platform, which is home to 260 million subscribers. In the buildup to their bout, speculation has run rampant as to which fighter will win. Some say that youth is on Jake’s side, but others are pointing to Tyson’s experience as a seasoned boxer… not to mention that he’s still got it when it comes to speed and power in spite of his age. Jake’s record currently sits at 9-1, with the YouTuber taking his first-ever loss against Tommy Fury in 2023. In sharp contrast, Tyson boasts a staggering record of 50-6, on top of his status as a living legend in the boxing world. Neither fighter will wear headgear, and the boxers will duke it out for eight 2-minute rounds. The result will go on each athlete’s permanent record, so it’s safe to say there’s a lot on the line for both Paul and Tyson.

Jake Paul warned he’ll be “in a really bad way” vs Mike Tyson – on one condition – Dexerto
Jake Paul warned he’ll be “in a really bad way” vs Mike Tyson – on one condition Associated PressJake Paul could end up in a “really bad way” in his fight with Mike Tyson if he doesn’t show the boxing great the “respect he deserves”. That is the frank verdict of former world cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew, who believes it is “frightening” to see Tyson enter the ring with a fighter 30 years his junior. Paul, 27, and Tyson, 57, will face off at the AT&T Stadium in Texas on July 20, in what will be Netflix’s first foray into live boxing broadcasting. Tyson, a former world heavyweight champion, has not fought professionally since a defeat to Kevin McBride in 2005 and last fought in an exhibition against Roy Jones Jr in 2020. Paul, meanwhile, has a 9-1 record in the ring and continues to navigate the crossover from YouTube star to fighter. Bellew hopes Paul vs Tyson is a “circus” The “Problem Child” will enter as a favorite against “Iron Mike” and Bellew is hopeful Tyson doesn’t end up hurt but concedes he would have probably took the fight, too, for the right price. “I am worried about it personally but you don’t know what’s been agreed between the two,” Bellew told Spin Bet. “It’s frightening that Mike Tyson is going back into a boxing ring against somebody who is more than 30 years younger than him. It’s just a bit nuts. “I’m hoping that the fight is a bit of a circus and a bit scripted because I wouldn’t want to see Mike get hurt in any way shape or form. Let’s see what happens. “He is going to be getting paid an awful lot of money and nobody has the right to stop him from doing that. “It is sad. I don’t want to see Mike Tyson get hurt, he is one of my idols and heroes, I love Mike Tyson and I don’t want to see him get hurt, but I understand it because everyone needs to get paid. “Everybody has a price and all of these people saying on social media why is he doing that, they also have a price and everyone in the world does and if the price is right then get on with it. “If somebody offers me the right price, then I’m sorry to say that I am fighting again. I hope Jake Paul gives him the respect he deserves, and I think he will, because if Mike kicks off then Jake Paul is in a really bad way. He’d pull his head off his neck.”

Jake Paul warned about fighting UFC star as “crazy” boxing KO video surfaces – Dexerto
Jake Paul warned about fighting UFC star as “crazy” boxing KO video surfaces YouTube: Jake PaulJake Paul has been warned about calling out UFC star Alex ‘Poatan’ Periera after “crazy” footage of his amateur boxing days surfaced online. Over the years, Jake Paul hasn’t shied away from calling out some of the biggest names in the fight game. The YouTuber-turned-boxer has gone after Conor McGregor on numerous occasions, as well as Jorge Masvidal. After defeating ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry back in July, the ‘Problem Child’ upped the stakes again. He decided to call out current UFC light heavyweight champion Alex ‘Poatan’ Periera for a fight. The Brazilian didn’t exactly shut it down, either. Since then, Jake has been repeatedly warned about trying to fight ‘Poatan’ because of how dangerous he is. Well, that has now continued after footage of Alex in boxing matches appeared online. In the short clips, Poatan displays some pretty explosive power, knocking down a handful of opponents and constantly backing them up against the ropes. “The knock out was crazy,” one viewer noted. “This is exactly why Jake Paul calling out Alex Pereira is actually even worse than the Mike Tyson fight,” another viewer said. “He KOs Jake Paul in two rounds,” another added. “Jake Paul doesn’t want any of that smoke. He stands no chance,” commented another viewer. “And Jake thinks he can beat him,” another said, attaching a handful of laughing emojis. As noted, the social media star hasn’t been backed down from anyone. He’s fighting ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson in November and, despite being the favorite, Jake knows that the heavyweight legend still carries serious power. One hurdle getting in the way of a potential fight with ‘Poatan’ is the fact that the Brazilian is still contracted to the UFC. Plus, UFC boss Dana White hasn’t shown a willingness to work with Jake. In fact, they’ve had plenty of beef at times. So, anyone worried about him mixing it up with Pereira shouldn’t have any immediate concerns.

Jake Paul wants to fight ex-boxing champ next after Mike Tyson – Dexerto
Jake Paul wants to fight ex-boxing champ next after Mike Tyson YouTube: Jake PaulJake Paul is already eyeing up his next big fight after he’s taken on Mike Tyson, and it would be against Ryan Garcia so that they can finally squash their beef. When Jake Paul first stepped into the boxing world, it was for creator events. He fought Deji and AnEsonGib in his first two fights before stepping up to fight athletes from other sports and, eventually, actual boxers. In the last few months, the ‘Problem Child’ has beaten Andre August and Ryan Bourland – two journeymen boxers – and is now getting ready to take on Mike Tyson, yes, Mike Tyson in the summer. While he’s been warned that the 57-year-old former heavyweight king still carries some serious punching power, Jake is already looking forward to what comes after it. That’s right, Jake is eyeing up what comes next after fighting Tyson and to him, that would be a clash with Ryan Garcia – the former WBC interim lightweight champion. “I think it could happen as an exhibition probably,” Jake said at the end of his BS with Jake Paul podcast on March 21. “I think he thinks he would win and I would love to just deflate his little 130lbs. Maybe Netflix, part two. “And his footwork sucks. Once I learned more about the sports it’s like he’s fast and quick and been doing it his whole life but his feet, ugh. I would tear him apart. He’s flat-footed, stuck, stuck-ass fighter.” Timestamp of 34:30 The former WBC interim lightweight champion has previously said he is open to fighting Jake, urging the YouTuber-turned-boxer to contact his team. KingRy does have a clash with Devin Haney coming up on April 20, however, so anything with Jake would have to wait a little bit yet.

Jake Paul wants big rule change for Mike Tyson fight as fake rules spread – Dexerto
Jake Paul wants big rule change for Mike Tyson fight as fake rules spread YouTube: FOX NewsJake Paul has revealed that he and Mike Tyson are hoping a big rule change is made for their fight as a number of fake rules and claims have been spreading online. When Jake Paul first stepped into the world of professional boxing, there were many detractors and doubters about his fights. However, he always had the support of ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson. The former Heavyweight king has heaped plenty of praise on Jake, and his brother Logan, for stepping into the ring. That sparked rumors that the ‘Problem Child’ and ‘Iron’ Mike would fight, and that will become a reality in the summer as they meet in Dallas, Texas, live on Netflix. Given the age and weight difference between the two, there have been plenty of rumors about different rules for the fight. Some have claimed that they’ll wear head guards and heavier boxing gloves so that neither of them will feel the punches. It has also been confirmed that, as of now, the fight will be an exhibition. However, Jake and Mike want that to be changed so that the clash will count on both of their professional records. “There’s been so much misinformation. Mike and I want this to be a pro fight, full-face shots. We’re submitting that request to the commission. It’s an all-out war,” the YouTuber-turned-boxer told FOX News. “There’s been all these fake videos about not being able to hit each other, big gloves, and it’s all fake news.” Timestamp of 4:25 As per USA Today, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations, Tyson will have to pass an electroencephalogram (EEG) and an electrocardiogram (EKG) before they will make the fight a professional contest. It remains to be seen if that’ll be the case, however.
