  • Frank Warren issues major Tyson Fury warning ahead of Oleksandr Usyk fight – Dexerto

Frank Warren issues major Tyson Fury warning ahead of Oleksandr Usyk fight Associated PressFrank Warren has warned Tyson Fury that Oleksandr Usyk will target the cut on the Gypsy King’s eye when the pair step into the ring next month. Fury and Usyk were due to meet in February, but the bout was postponed after an accident in Fury’s training camp left him needing 11 stitches to fix a cut on his eye. Now, with a new date on May 18, Warren, who co-promotes Fury, has warned that Usyk will look to target the cut. “Well, I would,” Warren told Sky Sports. “Of course he will.” Yet the 72-year-old was quick to point out that Fury has been through worse. “He had a worse cut against [Otto] Wallin,” the promoter added. “Tyson had a dreadful cut in that fight and won the fight convincingly with a bad cut, a real bad cut.” Warren also admitted that despite Fury having his own potential area of vulnerability for the fight, the WBC champion is a master at finding flaws in his opponent. “One thing about Tyson,” Warren said. “If he senses a crack or sees any weakness, he’s the biggest exploiter of it and that’s why it’s going to be such an exciting fight. “On the other hand, Usyk might feel from the [Francis] Ngannou fight there are some things that he can exploit and I’m sure he will. “He’s a competitor from amateur days right up until the present day. He’s done everything that’s been asked of him.” Asked what he thinks the outcome of the fight will be, Warren backed Fury to get the job done inside 12 rounds. “I think Tyson will knock him out,” Warren said. “Like I predicted he would knock out [Deontay] Wilder in the second fight. I really fancy him to do that. “I think he’ll stop him, but I think it is going to be a real, real exciting fight while it lasts.”

  • Francis Ngannou’s coach predicts win over Anthony Joshua & future heavyweight title – Dexerto

Francis Ngannou’s coach predicts win over Anthony Joshua & future heavyweight title Anthony Joshua – X, Dewey Cooper – XDewey Cooper believes his fighter Francis Ngannou will dominate Anthony Joshua in their upcoming mega fight and win the Undisputed Heavyweight title in only three bouts. Cooper’s choice predictions come less than two weeks before the superstars square off on March 8. Ngannou’s impressive battle against Tyson Fury last year proves his worth in the boxing ranks. The former UFC champion is now out to show that he can do more than knockdown a boxing champ. He’s after a major upset win. Cooper has undying faith that he will get it done, and more. Dewey Cooper favors Francis Ngannou’s willpower over Anthony Joshua’s Cooper envisions Ngannou hurting Joshua on fight night. He characterized the 37-year-old’s strength as being on “another astral plane of power.” The striking coach revealed that Ngannou has been chopping wood like boxing greats Muhammad Ali and Jack Johnson to enhance his knockout force. On top of that, Ngannou’s willpower has impressed behind the scenes. But Cooper knows that Joshua won’t be pushed over, as he told Fruity Slots on February 1: “This is going to be fire versus fire and battle of wills to win and intestinal fortitude and Francis will ultimately have more intestinal fortitude, a stronger will and he will win this fight and shock the world again,” Cooper boldly predicted. “He’s going to do unscripted, improbable things, like knocking out a two time heavyweight champion.” Considering Ngannou was able to score his knockdown against Lineal Heavyweight Champion Fury in his debut, Cooper sees no reason why he can’t replicate or exceed that against the British former champion. The Cameroonian fighter also has Mike Tyson’s support. The former knockout specialist is viewed as Joshua’s Kryptonite. Tyson’s longstanding relationship with Ngannou has already paid dividends. It will help against a fighter in Joshua who’s been knocked for his chin. Should Ngannou defeat Joshua, he’d likely have a shot at the loser of Fury’s upcoming fight against Oleksandr Usyk. Capturing the lineal title in such a short amount of time would be one of the most impressive achievements in modern sports history.

  • Francis Ngannou’s $20 million boxing payday reignites UFC wage debate – Dexerto

Francis Ngannou’s $20 million boxing payday reignites UFC wage debate Associated PressFrancis Ngannou, a former UFC Heavyweight Champion, has branched out into the boxing world. And he’s bringing in loads of cash in the process. After holding his own and nearly winning against the undefeated WBC champion, Tyson Fury, former UFC champion Francis Ngannou didn’t fare as well against Anthony Joshua. Joshua knocked Ngannou down multiple times before eventually landing the final blow, putting the MMA star flat on his back to end the night. Francis Ngannou takes home massive payday vs. Anthony Joshua Although the fight didn’t go as planned for Ngannou, he still reportedly brought him $20 million for the scrum. Add that to the $10 million he made vs. Fury in October 2023. That $30 million total, all coming in the past six months and only requiring two fights, is nearly 10x as much as Ngannou made in his entire 14-fight UFC career. Jake Paul has been vocal about the UFC’s insistence on underpaying its talent. And the reported payday for Ngannou vs. Joshua further helps Paul’s case. The UFC cleared over $1 billion in revenue in 2023, and according to Paul, the company’s CEO, Dana White, is not divvying up those funds fairly to his fighters. White regularly shuts down the discourse when asked about it, claiming that he properly compensates his fighters and it is on par with their value on the open market. According to the Sportster, the highest payout for a single fight in UFC history is $8 million for Brock Lesnar at UFC 200. Ngannou nearly tripled that on March 8 in his second professional boxing match. On the other hand, Joshua brought in a whopping $50 million for the fight, which towers over the expected payout for the entire UFC 300 card. While the UFC has made ground on boxing in the combat sports realm over the past decade, it’s clear who the king is regarding lucrative paydays. Expect more octagon stars to venture into the ring until the UFC can compete with boxing’s payouts, especially if one boxing match can earn more than an entire MMA career for most fighters.

  • Francis Ngannou explains why Mike Tyson will “beat Jake Paul’s ass” in Netflix bout – Dexerto

Francis Ngannou explains why Mike Tyson will “beat Jake Paul’s ass” in Netflix bout YouTube/Most Valuable PromotionsFormer UFC Heavyweight champ Francis Ngannou predicts Mike Tyson will crush Jake Paul when the two meet in the boxing ring, telling ‘The Problem Child’ to this face why he will lose. Jake Paul is set to battle Mike Tyson in Netflix’s first-ever live boxing event on November 15. As the fight inches ever closer, the combat sports community continues to debate who has the edge in the historic matchup. While WWE icon Hulk Hogan is worried Jake will “kill” Mike Tyson, Iron Mike’s former sparring partner is convinced the retired boxer plans to hold back against Paul to avoid “seriously hurting” him. Now, PFL fighter and former UFC champ Francis Ngannou has weighed in on the upcoming match, and explained to Jake Paul why he’s backing Tyson. During the September 5 episode of BS w/ Jake Paul, the Cameroonian said he expects Mike will “beat his ass.” (Segment begins at 1:14:00) “Listen, I have seen how Tyson moves around. Just to show me stuff,” Francis said while shifting quickly in his seat to imitate Mike. “He’s still got it.” Although Ngannou wouldn’t say whether or not the fight would end in a KO, he was convinced that Tyson would be the one picking up the win. “Mike is something else,” he added. Jake was unfazed by Ngannou’s prediction, but still asked the former UFC champ for advice. “I love it when people stand on business and say the other person is going to win. It makes it fun. What do I have to watch out for?” “Everything,” Ngannou replied. “Knowing Mike, I just believe that Mike will beat him. I’m not betting against him, it just is what it is.” Despite Ngannou having faith in Tyson, Netflix may not be feeling the same way. Recent reports claim the streaming platform is concerned about Tyson’s health going into the match and the 58-year-old may need to convince the organizers that he can handle it.

  • Francis Ngannou blames Anthony Joshua loss on “weird” pre-fight schedule – Dexerto

Francis Ngannou blames Anthony Joshua loss on “weird” pre-fight schedule Associated PressFrancis Ngannou suffered a brutal second-round knockout at the hands of Anthony Joshua. He’s now blaming a “weird” pre-fight schedule for his loss. Ngannou made his boxing debut last October against world champion Tyson Fury. To the surprise of many boxing fans, the MMA star held his own with Fury. Ngannou lost the contest via a controversial judge’s decision but parlayed that success into a bout with champion-level boxer Anthony Joshua. Joshua sent Ngannou to the mat three times, including the final blow in the second round. The former UFC champion blames a “weird” lead-up to the fight for his poor showing. Ngannou blames early pickup time for Joshua loss According to Ngannou, his pickup time to head to the arena was 10:30 PM, but the start time for the fight wasn’t until 1:45 AM. In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Ngannou revealed that Joshua did not arrive at the arena until hours after he did. “I was there at least two hours before him. I could have just stayed home,” Ngannou said. “I was in the locker room waiting for four-and-a-half hours. Even warming up and sweating, but still getting tired. I’m sweating, and I feel like I’m asleep. “When the fight started, I was never there. I took the first punch; I was awake but didn’t really feel it. “I feel myself down [on the canvas], and I’m like, ‘Man, what’s going on?’ And then, I’m being counted out. Ngannou knew that fighting in Saudi Arabia would throw off his internal clock, thanks to his previous fighting experience in Riyadh. However, according to the MMA-star-turned-boxer, it was the “weird” pickup time that he didn’t account for. Some boxing fans are calling it an excuse to justify losing to Joshua. Others are joining Ngannou in blaming the disparity in pickup times for his loss.

  • Francis Ngannou bashes Tyson Fury at Anthony Joshua press conference – Dexerto

Francis Ngannou bashes Tyson Fury at Anthony Joshua press conference Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury got into a vicious verbal spat during Ngannou and Anthony Joshua’s heavyweight press conference on Wednesday. Ngannou and Joshua were the ones expected to trade insults. However, things took a disrespectful turn once the former boasted about his debut boxing performance against Fury. The lineal heavyweight champion defended his pride and clapped back in the audience before Ngannou delivered a crushing blow to Fury’s toughness. Francis Ngannou dismisses Tyson Fury’s boxing and MMA chops Ngannou talked up his boxing prowess by gloating over his knockdown against Fury. The 37-year-old confidently proclaimed that he won their first fight. Fury didn’t take that too kindly. He shouted back at Ngannou. Then, Ngannou went off the rails as DAZN shared on X: “You’re gonna slip in the octagon again, and I’m going to wipe the ring with your a** again,” Ngannou said regarding a potential rematch with the Brit. “I’ll tell you, your only chance is in the ring, in the boxing ring with the boxing rules. When you step off of that ring you better stay five meter away before I [unintelligible] your s***, because if I lose it, you’re gonna have a really bad time my friend.” The war of words highlighted a rather uneventful third press conference between Ngannou and Joshua. Both fighters and their camps declared a win on Friday. Ngannou’s coach Dewey Cooper alliteratively promised that “the flaming, ferocious fists of Francis will finish Anthony Joshua.” The victor will likely get a shot at Fury. Implications for the fight couldn’t be higher.

  • Former world champion claims Jake Paul is “buying scalps” ahead of Mike Tyson fight – Dexerto

Former world champion claims Jake Paul is “buying scalps” ahead of Mike Tyson fight Associated PressFormer cruiserweight world champion, Johnny Nelson, has claimed that Jake Paul is “buying scalps” ahead of his fight with Mike Tyson this summer. Paul and Tyson will go toe-to-toe in the ring on July 20, in Arlington, Texas. There is a 30 year age gap between the pair, as ‘Iron Mike‘ enters the fight well beyond his prime years. In fact, Tyson’s last professional fight came nearly 20 years ago back in 2005. This has left Nelson to question Paul’s tactics in choosing opponents who are over the hedge, something that he believes is a clear strategy from ‘The Problem Child‘. “I know Mike, and I think what Jake Paul has done is buy scalps,” Nelson told Dexerto on behalf of BetVictor. “You saw Jake Paul beat Anderson Silva. Do you think Jake Paul would have been able to do that against the Anderson Silva we know? The young version that was at the top of his game, no, he couldn’t have. “What he’s done again, he’s buying a scalp in Mike Tyson. We know Mike, we respect him. We know how tremendous this man was and how much he dominated the heavyweight division. Jake Paul has bought a scalp. “Tyson, if he’s going in for the money, well, go on, go for it. Anything other than the money, don’t do it man, don’t do it. “Honestly, if you’re going in for the money then it means, ‘I don’t care if I get turned over. I don’t care what happens to me, I’m getting paid $50 million. I’m 57-years-old. I’m getting paid $50 million to fight.’ “And if that’s what he’s going to do, and that’s what’s comfortable doing, that’s on him. But I am telling you now, if he gets turned over and turned over badly, it will haunt him for the rest of his life. The $50 million in the bank is not going to make any difference. “Mike Tyson is older than his dad! Mike Tyson is my age! So, he’s just buying a scalp and so I don’t like to see but it’s going to happen. And I hope Tyson knocks him out. But I don’t think that’s going to happen.” Tyson, 57, will take on Paul, 27, on July, 20. The fight will be streamed live on Netflix, taking place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL‘s Dallas Cowboys. A mouth-watering $2 million VIP ticket package has already been revealed, ahead of their official sale on Thursday, May 16 at 12pm ET. The fight has divided opinion in the boxing world. Tyson Fury has insisted that the bout is “fantastic for boxing,” while Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, dubbed it a “freak show.” Some of the biggest concerns surrounding the fight are over the 30-year age gap between the pair, with fears touted by some that Tyson could potentially suffer major injuries during the bout. But Tyson’s trainer, Rafael Cordeiro, has dismissed fears concerning the boxing legend’s health, insisting that the 57-year-old is in great shape. • Former world champion accuses Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson of being a “fix” – Dexerto

Former world champion accuses Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson of being a “fix” Associated PressJake Paul vs Mike Tyson has been accused of being a “fix” by former world champion Carl Froch. ‘The Cobra’, who is a three-time world super-middleweight champion, has been outspoken in his criticism of Paul’s ability in the past and has not held back on his views over his mega fight with Tyson. Paul, 27, will take on Tyson, 57, who his thirty years older than him, in a professional fight at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday, July 20, live on Netflix. Both fighters are expected to be paid handsomely for the bout, but critics have slammed Paul, who boasts a 9-1 record, for fighting Tyson, who was last a world champion in 1996 and hasn’t fought professionally since 2005. As such, some experts and fighters have aired their concerns over Tyson’s welfare in the fight, with former heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder even suggesting he could end up in a coma. However, Froch doesn’t share those concerns and has even suggested the fight will be scripted as part of the contract, so that Paul wins and continues on his boxing career. “I’m not worried about Mike Tyson, Jake Paul cannot fight. None of his knockouts are legitimate,” Froch told Lord Ping. “His knockouts were against opponents who didn’t know what they were doing. He’s f****** useless; his technique, style, balance, offence, defence, the way he sets up his punches – he cannot fight. “Mike is going to be absolutely fine. I think Wilder saying Mike is at risk of a coma is over exaggerated, Wilder is getting carried away and giving Jake more credit than he’s worth. I even give Mike a chance of winning, but Jake’s youth will defeat father time. “I think there will be a script as a part of the contract. This is a fix. Mike will be taking his time like he did against Roy Jones, not trying to hit or hurt Jake, because that’s how the Roy fight went. “I think he’s getting paid well, and the script will be: take your time, don’t do anything silly.” For all the details around Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson, check out our fight hub here. • Former Jake Paul opponent makes big prediction for Mike Tyson fight – Dexerto

Former Jake Paul opponent makes big prediction for Mike Tyson fight YouTube: BS w/ Jake PaulOne of Jake Paul’s oldest boxing rivals has made a big prediction for his upcoming fight with Mike Tyson. Though, he’d “love” to see a massive upset take place. When Jake Paul and Mike Tyson first announced that they’d be fighting, plenty of critics jumped on the fight. They were quick to point to the massive age gap between the pair, as well as the fact that Tyson hasn’t fought regularly for over two decades. The first fight date – July 20 – had to be scrapped after ‘Iron’ Mike suffered an ulcer flare-up. It has since been rearranged for November 15 and it looks to be progressing ahead. However, the 58-year-old will undergo stringent medical tests just 24 hours before he is due to step into the ring. If he does step into there to fight the ‘Problem Child’, Tyson is actually set to be the underdog. Ben Askren, who fought Jake in his third professional fight, believes that the YouTuber-turned-boxer will win, but would “love” it if he got upset by the heavyweight legend. “I feel like that’s how it’s gonna go, it’s gonna be competitive early,” Askren told Daniel Cormier. “58 is old and he’s probably gonna get tired and, yeah. It’s not a win-win. You’re beating up a 58-year-old. He’s 58. He hasn’t been actively competitive in twenty years.” The former MMA star said it would be a “backfire” if Jake lost, but he doubts the YouTuber would lose. “Wouldn’t we all love to see it (Tyson winning)? Let’s not get our hopes up,” he added. “Santa may not bring you anything nice, but if he does it’ll be a great surprise.” As noted, Jake has full confidence that the fight goes ahead and hasn’t drafted in a backup fighter. A win over Tyson would be a nice scalp, but it isn’t going to get him into the world title scene.

  • Floyd Mayweather Jr accuses Jake Paul of “stealing money” with Mike Tyson fight – Dexerto

Floyd Mayweather Jr accuses Jake Paul of “stealing money” with Mike Tyson fight Associated PressBoxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. joined the ‘It Is What It Is’ podcast to discuss Jake Paul and his July 20 match against former world champion Mike Tyson. Mayweather famously retired from the sport of boxing with a pristine 50-0 record after defeating UFC star Conor McGregor by TKO in 2017. Since then, the 47-year-old has remained a fixture in boxing, even fighting an exhibition against Jake’s brother, Logan Paul. Naturally, with the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight fast approaching, ‘It Is What It Is’ asked the undefeated boxer what he thought of the much anticipated Netflix match. Mayweather took the opposite approach of other boxing legends, complimenting Paul for raking in the cash, albeit in a backhanded way. “I mean, what he [Jake Paul] is doing is kinda cool,” Mayweather replied. “If he can continue to steal money, and they match him the way they match him, I can’t knock his hustle. “So if they can match him how they’ve been matching him, more power to him.” On the other hand, Carl Froch and Tony Bellew, two former champions, weren’t as complimentary. Froch said it “shouldn’t be happening,” while Bellew called it a “disgrace” to boxing. Former UFC standout Michael Bisping described it as a “sham,” adding to the list of stars that have all panned the Paul vs Tyson match, especially after the 57-year-old’s medical scare. Tyson suffered a “medical emergency” on his May 27 flight, later described as an ulcer flare-up, which he received treatment for on the plane and immediately after it landed. When news of the scare broke, boxing fans worried that the Tyson vs Paul match could be canceled as a result. However, ‘Iron Mike’ quickly shut down those rumors by claiming he’s 100%, and Paul did the same, vowing to “f**k Tyson up” in July now that the medical issue is behind them. The two men will still square off at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with an expected capacity crowd. And that’s without mentioning the worldwide audience who will watch from Netflix. While others had harsh words for Paul, Mayweather admitted it’s a brilliant business plan for ‘The Problem Child.’

  • Floyd Mayweather introduces elite Terence Crawford title matchup – Dexerto

Floyd Mayweather introduces elite Terence Crawford title matchup Associated PressFloyd Mayweather sees one welterweight contender as a perfect opponent for Terence Crawford in his next title fight. Mayweather identified Jaron Ennis as the prime candidate to try and dethrone the pound-for-pound king of boxing. He took his stance on the grounds of Crawford not being able to land a bout against Canelo Alvarez or a rematch with Errol Spence Jr. Now seven months removed from his seventh-round knockout of Spence Jr., Mayweather thinks that Crawford and Ennis is next up on the itinerary. Floyd Mayweather bills Jaron Ennis as tough challenge for Terence Crawford The Money Team founder sat down for an interview with Fight Hype and gave sound reason for a Crawford and Ennis welterweight contest: “Somebody’s got to give ‘Boots’ the opportunity. It’s been difficult for Terence Crawford to get the Spence rematch done, it’s been difficult to get the Canelo fight done, so his other option is to fight ‘Boots’ Ennis,” Mayweather said. Crawford has seemingly conquered all of the top competition at 147 pounds except for the Michigan native. ‘Boots’ Ennis possesses the speed, flash, and technical skills to bother Crawford. He’d also be the last major pugilist at 147 pounds for Crawford to potentially best before moving up in weight, which he’s long desired. Mayweather also drew from his fight with Canelo Alvarez back in 2013. He stated that giving Alvarez a chance helped boost his profile. Win or lose, Ennis is at a juncture in his career where a strong performance against Crawford would similarly pay immeasurable dividends. The retired legend even threw David Benavidez’s name out there for Crawford to consider at 168 pounds, though a 21-pound jump may be too extreme. Mayweather’s backing of Ennis would give boxing an anticipated fight, though Crawford is currently in a league of his own, regardless of division.

  • Five dream Eddie Hearn vs Frank Warren fights amid Saudi boxing vow – Dexerto

Five dream Eddie Hearn vs Frank Warren fights amid Saudi boxing vow TNT SportsThe press conference launching the much anticipated heavyweight boxing bout between former two-time world champion Anthony Joshua and former UFC champion Francis Ngannou has left tongues wagging. But not over the fight they were intending to promote but rather the prospect of a future 2024 show that would have been beyond boxing fans’ wildest dreams little more than six months ago. His Excellency Turki Alalshikh used Monday’s press conference to reveal he wants to make a five-fight card that will see Eddie Hearn’s fighters from Matchroom take on Frank Warren’s Queensberry stable. He announced: “I want to see Eddie Hearn vs Frank Warren… Five on five,” to which both British promoters agreed and shook hands on stage. The pair have been at loggerheads ever since Hearn stepped into the boxing promotion world but they have come together on recent cards in Saudi Arabia to stage some of the biggest fights in boxing. And now they look set to stage a joint show pitting their fighters against each other later this year. Here, Dexerto Sport looks at five mouth-watering fights the show could stage. Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury It would be one of the most anticipated showdowns in British boxing history and the hope would be this long awaited fight between two British heavyweight world champions would headline the card. Fury will put his WBC title on the line in an undisputed heavyweight title fight with Oleksandr Usyk next month in Saudi Arabia, while Joshua takes on Ngannou a month later. Ideally, both fighter would emerge victorious so there are world titles on the line but, regardless, it would settle a lengthy rivalry while both promoters put their most prized assets on the line. Filip Hrgovic vs Daniel Dubois/Zhilei Zhang If one potential heavyweight world title fight is not enough, then another one on the same card would do just nicely. If Fury wins all four belts, he will have mandatory challengers to negotiate while trying to make a fight with Joshua. Matchroom’s Filip Hrgovic is mandatory challenger for the IBF belt, while Queensberry’s Zhilei Zhang holds the WBO Interim belt and is first in line for a shot at the full title. Fury could well vacate one, if not both, of those belts which could see those vacant titles up for grabs on the same show. If it’s impossible for Hrgovic vs Zhang to be made then Hrgovic vs Daniel Dubois would be a very good alternative. Callum Smith vs Anthony Yarde Both men have tried and both men have failed to beat Artur Beterbiev in the last 12 months for his WBC, IBF and WBO light-heavyweight titles. So while Beterbiev thrashes out an undisputed title fight with fellow Russian and WBA champion Dmitry Bivol, what better fight to make than Smith vs Yarde? British bragging rights would be at stake and the chance to be first in line for another world title shot would surely await the winner. Raymond Ford vs Nick Ball Given Leigh Wood has vacated his WBA featherweight world title, and a rematch at super-featherweight with Josh Warrington or a shot at Joe Cordina’s IBF super-featherweight title is up next for the Nottingham fighter, then there is no better featherweight matchup to make between the two stables. Ford, promoted by Matchroom, is set to challenge the fearsome Uzbek Otabek Kholmatov for the vacant WBA featherweight world title in March. Should he win his first defence could be against the highly ranked Nick Ball. Should he lose, Ball, who is currently the number one ranked contender in the WBC, would be the perfect return fight with the winner surely set for a shot at world champion Rey Vargas. Shabaz Masoud vs Liam Davies Japanese sensation Naoya Inoue has just become the undisputed champion at super-bantamweight and after a mooted defence against Luis Nery, he could well step up again to the featherweight division. Should he do so, all four belts would become vacant and both Hearn and Warren boast fighters in the division who are highly ranked in various governing bodies. Shabaz Masoud, ranked third in the WBA, against British and European champion Liam Davies, who is ranked in the top 15 of all four governing bodies, would be a perfect gateway fight to a world title shot.

  • Fight fans split on Mike Tyson’s new training footage for Jake Paul Netflix match – Dexerto

Fight fans split on Mike Tyson’s new training footage for Jake Paul Netflix match X/MikeTysonBoxing legend Mike Tyson posted footage of him training for his return to the ring against Jake Paul and fight fans are mixed on whether ‘Iron Mike’ still has it in him. On July 20, Mike Tyson will be headed back into the boxing ring to take on influencer Jake Paul in Netflix’s first-ever live boxing event. Fans were immediately baffled at the announcement last week, with many slamming the bout as being a “joke” for reportedly enforcing headgear while others simply believed Tyson was too past his prime for the fight to be competitive. Tyson has since stepped up and shared footage of his first day of training to take on ‘The Problem Child’ and while some are impressed with his punching power, others aren’t as convinced. Mike Tyson’s Jake Paul training footage sparks debate In the short ten-second clip, Tyson showed off his punching power and movement, landing some furious blows to his trainer. “It’s day one, the fun’s just begun,” Mike grinned at the end of the video. Immediately, the combat sports community began to weigh in on the footage, which impressed many, but seemed to only fuel the skepticism of others. Former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen was among the first to take issue with the training clips, pointing out that it didn’t even seem like Tyson put in much work. “In the future, if you’re ever going to spend five seconds hitting mitts, as a way of making the audience believe you’re doing a training session, make sure you splash water on your face and T-shirt first,” he remarked. “Go watch Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr from a few years ago. Then you’ll get a real idea of what Mike will look like in the ring at nearly 60 and why everyone is calling this matchup a joke,” professional gambler Luca Fury chimed in. For others, the quick clip was enough to get their hopes up that Tyson would be able to bring it and potentially even be the first fighter to ever KO Jake Paul in the middle of the ring. “Forget the script. Knock his ass out,” one fan replied. “Jake Paul is going to literally die,” another commented. We’ll have to see exactly what – or who – goes down on July 20 when Jake Paul and Iron Mike lock horns in a fight many didn’t think would ever happen, including Tyson himself.

  • Fight fans concerned as Mike Tyson shares new training footage for Jake Paul bout – Dexerto

Fight fans concerned as Mike Tyson shares new training footage for Jake Paul bout Instagram: miketysonFans of boxing legend Mike Tyson aren’t confident in his skills against his upcoming opponent, YouTube-boxer Jake Paul, thanks to some new training footage. 58-year-old Mike Tyson is slated to face off with 27-year-old Jake Paul in November 2024. Their bout was initially scheduled for July, but was pushed back after Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up. Now, things are looking even more grim for the aging athlete — at least, that’s what fans in Jake Paul’s camp are saying after the former heavyweight champ showed off some training footage on Instagram. In a seven-second clip posted on his Instagram account, Tyson aggressively hit the pads, showing off his speed and power before ducking and weaving his way in between taps from his trainer. Although he’s clearly still got the moves in his old age, commenters across social media aren’t sure his experience will measure up against Jake Paul’s youthful strength. “Jake knocking him out,” one netizen wrote. “It’s over for him,” another said. “No chance Mike Tyson beats Jake Paul.” “Mike Tyson on November 15th, Round 1, ‘Goodnight,’” yet another predicted. The conversation about who will win come November 15 has been a heated one. Some boxing fans believe that Tyson’s experience will win out, while others believe Iron Mike is simply too old to pose a real threat. Jake’s current boxing record is 9-1, suffering one loss to Tommy Fury in February 2023. Since then, he’s made it his mission to get back on top and fight one of the sport’s greatest athletes to cement his status as the ‘Problem Child’ of modern boxing. Jake himself has expressed a respect for his opponent, who has similarly hyped up his exploits in the boxing world over the years. However, not everyone is a fan of this upcoming match-up, with former boxing champion Carl Froch saying the YouTuber is ‘pissing people off’ with the bout. Whether or not Jake will actually knock Tyson to the canvas remains to be seen — but it’s certainly a fun guessing game until November 15 finally arrives.

  • Fans trash Jake Paul for challenging a ‘washed up’ Mike Tyson – Dexerto

Fans trash Jake Paul for challenging a ‘washed up’ Mike Tyson Associated PressA shocking announcement hit the combat sports community on Thursday, as Jake Paul and Mike Tyson agreed to a boxing match on Netflix. Jake Paul is 9-1 in his boxing career, with victories against aging basketball players and mixed martial artists. His lone loss came against Tommy Fury, a professional boxer. Conversely, Mike Tyson is 50-6 in his boxing career, including 44 exciting knockouts. However, it’s been nearly two decades since “Iron Mike” fought a professional bout. Now, the two will square off at AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys. The fight will air live on Netflix on July 20. This announcement paves the way for the streaming platform to get its first taste of influencer boxing. And it won’t require an added pay-per-view charge, either. Fans post strong reactions to Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight Paul spent the morning hyping up the fight with Tyson, explaining that the 57-year-old may be past his prime, but the power still lives in that right hand. However, as the community note under the post states, Paul’s video on X is four years old. It came when Tyson was preparing for a 2020 exhibition match vs. Roy Jones Jr. — the last time he was in the ring. The upcoming scrum brought Tyson’s previous podcast appearance back to the forefront. In the clip, the boxing phenom explains that a fight between the two wouldn’t be competitive. A former world champion expecting to knock out a YouTuber-turned-boxer isn’t surprising on the surface, but fans pointed out prior health concerns as a reason Tyson could lose. Some fans claim that the near-60-year-old Tyson will end the night flat on his back, with one X user offering their take on the match. But Tyson has his fair share of supporters, whether it’s a genuine belief that he will win or if fans just want to see Paul humbled. It goes deeper than fans picking Tyson, as some folks are outright begging for Paul to go to sleep during the fight. Paul’s viability as a top-shelf boxer is still very much in contention with fans. And it’s fair to wonder if Paul has gotten himself into a lose-lose situation. Either he beats up a 57-year-old, and fans belittle that victory. Or he loses to a 57-year-old, and fans continue to diminish what Paul has accomplished to this point. But in Paul’s perspective, as someone who grew up watching Mike Tyson highlights, it would give him a win vs. one of the most fearsome boxers ever to live — even if he’s approaching 60.

  • Expert makes shocking prediction on Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight location – Dexerto

Expert makes shocking prediction on Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight location Associated PressTyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua is one of the most highly-demanded fights in boxing right now. Should the title bout take shape, one expert has predicted that it won’t actually take place in the fighters’ home country, the UK. British and boxing fans worldwide have wanted to see Fury, the reigning lineal heavyweight champion, and Joshua, the former undisputed heavyweight title-holder, settle the score for upwards of seven years. And most envisioned it taking place in Fury’s home country. But Dr. Rob Wilson, a sports finance expert and professor of economics at Sheffield Hallam University, believes that the hopeful fight will take place either in Saudi Arabia or Las Vegas, NV as opposed to the United Kingdom. He cited revenue generation as the biggest factor that will sway the fight away from their home country in a conversation with Grosvenor Sport. “Even if it was 10 years ago that fight would probably not be happening in the UK, it will go to a much bigger market that can get driven by PPV. Saudi is now just battling with Las Vegas for the chance to stage the fight and get the PPV money for the top boxers in the world,” Wilson said. Wilson is correct in the fact that Wembley Stadium has not produced a top-10 pay per view bout in history. Conversely, the MGM Grand Garden Arena and Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas have been home to a wealth of the highest-selling championship fights for decades on end. Additionally, Saudi Arabia has aggressively pursued expansion into the boxing sphere, as seen with their recent slate of fights. Seeing that both of Fury and Joshua’s most recent matches were held at Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia, it would make sense that their next major heavyweight clash would follow suit.

  • Ex-world champion claims he would go to prison for Mike Tyson if Jake Paul hurts him – Dexerto

Ex-world champion claims he would go to prison for Mike Tyson if Jake Paul hurts him Associated PressFormer world cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew has claimed it would “absolutely kill” him to see Mike Tyson get hurt by Jake Paul in their upcoming fight. So much so, that the former champion has claimed he would “happily” spend a couple of weeks in prison to exact revenge for one of his boxing heroes, should he lose to Paul in their upcoming fight on July 20. 27-year-old Paul will take on Tyson, who turns 58 before their fight, at the AT&T stadium in Arlington, Texas, in front of the Netflix cameras. The pair embarked on their first press conference promoting the fight in New York on Monday and will come face to face again on Thursday at a second press conference in Texas. In his prime, Tyson was one of the most destructive heavyweight champions in the history of the sport but the fact Paul is fighting him in his late 50s has drawn some ire from purist boxing fans. Love him or hate him, Paul’s crossover from YouTube star to boxer has seen him become one of the sport’s biggest draws in terms of ticket sales and pay-per-view buys. Nonetheless, Bellew is less than impressed with all parties involved that the fight has been made, particularly now it has been sanctioned as a professional fight. “Mike is probably getting between $20-50 million for this fight, I’m not going to lie, I’d do it,” Bellew told Boyle Sports. “Everyone has got a price. But if Jake Paul hurts Mike Tyson it would absolutely kill me. If he hurt Mike Tyson and then I run into Jake Paul, I’d chin him, quite happily. I would even spend a couple weeks in the big house for that. “It’s a sad, sad day. It’s not a professional contest really because only women fight two minute rounds, men do not fight two minutes. But Jake Paul is so f*****g pig headed, he wants it to go on Mike Tyson’s record. “Hopefully Mike chins him and puts him to sleep in six or seven seconds. The age Tyson is at, he could be Jake Paul’s grandfather, so it’s sad really. It should have been left as an exhibition. “But that’s who he is, he’s after clout and fame. I just hope Mike has that one punch left in him. He will never lose that punch, he’s lost the snap and sharpness of it, but if he turns a right hand over and hits Jake Paul on the chin, the boy is going to sleep. “But at 58 years old it’s f*****g frightening, this is show business. This really isn’t boxing. “I don’t think Netflix cares about Mike’s health, they generated $25billion last year. Netflix doesn’t give a s**t about Mike Tyson. No one cares and the saddest part is, Mike knows that – he’s been there, done it and got the T-shirt.” The build-up to Paul vs Tyson has already been spicy, with Tyson warning his rival that his life will be on the line when they meet in the ring on July 20. • Ex-world champ slams Tyson Fury & claims Oleksandr Usyk fight will end in controversy – Dexerto

Ex-world champ slams Tyson Fury & claims Oleksandr Usyk fight will end in controversy Associated PressFormer cruiserweight world champion, Johnny Nelson, has hit back at Tyson Fury’s claims that he “got bashed” after stepping up to heavyweight, insisting that ‘The Gypsy King’ will have “points taken away from him” against Oleksandr Usyk in what he believes will be a controversial fight. Fury and Usyk go head-to-head on Saturday, May 18 for the right to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. The fight is arguably the biggest boxing event of the year, but Nelson believes that fans are in store for a controversial ending to the bout. “I think the fight is going to end in controversy, I think it’s written on the wall,” he told Dexerto on behalf of BetVictor. “Tyson Fury has openly admitted, he acknowledged when he used the elbow with [Francis] Ngannou. We’ve seen Tyson Fury use the elbow, use a forearm, use whatever dark arts he can get away with in a fight. “That’s what he’s instinctively used and that’s what, [Deontay] Wilder was complaining about it, they’ve all [his previous opponents] complained about it. He does it, he gets away with it.” Nelson insisted that Usyk’s ability to put fighters under intense pressure will cause Fury to resort to the so-called “dark arts” of boxing. “We can go all the way back in his career,” he continued. “We’ve seen that if he’s put under pressure by somebody that knows how to put him under pressure, as in, Usyk, who is very good at putting someone under pressure, making them work desperately at a pace that they don’t want to work – he will then revert back to type. That’s what will happen. “Now, I use the example of Ricky Hatton against Floyd Mayweather. Ricky Hatton blamed the referee for not letting them just get on with the fight. The referee made him box clean because Mayweather and his team complained about him holding down and everything. “If Usyk’s people know what they’re doing, they will go to the officials and referee, the judges and everybody, saying this is what he [Fury] does. Make sure he does the right thing. “And if the referee and the judges do their job, then that’s what will happen and then Tyson’s going to have to box clean and it’s going to have to be skill against skill. “And Tyson will only get to that point if the fight is getting uncomfortable for him, if he’s not happy with how it’s going, that’s when it becomes skill against skill.” “So this is why I say this will be a controversial points win,” he continued. “I think both fighters are slippery enough and skilled enough to not get knocked out. Do they hit hard enough? Tyson does, he hits harder than Usyk, but it’s about skill. “And so and with that kind of mindset I say there’s going to be a controversial ending to this fight. Tyson Fury may get the decision and not deserve it. Or Tyson Fury will not get the decision and think he deserved it. He’ll get points taken away from him – this is what I expect.” Tyson Fury could “disappear” if he loses to Oleksandr Usyk Whoever wins the fight will walk away as the first undisputed heavyweight world champion of the world since Lennox Lewis achieved the feat in 1999. When asked what the outcome of the fight could mean for the division and the future of each fighter, Nelson made it clear that a loss for Fury could signal the end of The Gyspy King’s time in the ring. “If Tyson Fury loses badly,” he said. “It doesn’t matter what the promoters say, it doesn’t matter how much money they throw on the table, it doesn’t matter what his team has done, what anybody says – Tyson Fury will mentally not be able to get over getting beaten by this ‘short, jumped up, gapped teeth cruiserweight’. “So he himself will struggle to deal with it. And that will hurt him, it’ll destroy him. Because you see what kind of fighter he is, you see he wears his heart on his sleeve. That’s who he is. And so they’ll try and spin it. They’ll try and dress it up. “They have no control over Tyson fury. Tyson is the boss of all that squad. And so if he loses bad, don’t be surprised if Tyson fury walks away and he disappears, don’t be surprised.” Tyson Fury: Johnny Nelson “got bashed” at heavyweight Fury, never one to shy away from controversy, launched into a passionate rant on the history of heavyweight boxing and how size matters in the division. The 35-year-old mentioned Nelson by name, claiming that the former cruiserweight “got “bashed” when he stepped up to heavyweight. Nelson, although agreeing with Fury’s overall point, did not entirely see eye-to-eye with the WBC champion after finding out about the claims being made. “I was actually on holiday in St Lucia and I got a few phone calls telling me that I got mentioned,” Nelson said. “Factually, Tyson Fury is a boxing historian. And I love that. But factually, he was actually wrong. “I was the cruiserweight stepping up and fighting heavyweights and I didn’t get ‘bashed’ against every heavyweight I went in against. “I won some obscure silly heavyweight title down in Australia. So I beat heavyweights. He never said anything I didn’t say myself. “I said that a top cruiserweight can beat most heavyweights. It’s just the top heavyweights you can’t beat because you’re giving away far too much. Either weight, height, reach, power or something else. So top cruiserweights will beat most heavyweights until you get to the top. “So he didn’t say anything I have not said myself, because I know that. If I could step up to heavyweight and be a fully-fledged heavyweight, I would have done. “I was a cruiserweight king and I knew I was. I was the boss of my palace. As a world heavyweight champion, that wasn’t my palace.” Fight week for Fury vs Usyk has already begun in controversial style. Tyson’s father, John Fury, headbutted a member of the Ukrainian’s team in a crowded hotel lobby on Monday, May 13. Fury Sr was labeled a “clown” by former world boxing champion Carl Froch for his behavior. For all the biggest results and upcoming fights this year, check out Dexerto’s 2024 boxing schedule.

  • Ex-UFC star teases Jake Paul fight after Mike Tyson clash postponed – Dexerto

Ex-UFC star teases Jake Paul fight after Mike Tyson clash postponed YouTube: BS w/ Jake PaulFormer UFC star Darren Till has teased a fight with Jake Paul after the YouTuber’s bout with Mike Tyson has been postponed. Arguably the face of influencer boxing, Jake Paul has been gearing up to face one of the sport’s greatest on July 20, when he was set to go blow-for-blow with Mike Tyson. However, the nearly 57-year-old retired boxer had to postpone their clash due to medical concerns after he had an ulcer flare-up during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on May 27. Nevertheless, ex-UFC fighter Darren Till has now hinted at a potential fight with the YouTube star in replacement. On June 5, the 31-year-old teased a fight with ‘The Problem Child’ by sharing a fight poster of ‘Paul vs. Till’ in an Instagram post, adding a moneybag, eyes, and pinching finger emojis in the caption. It isn’t the first time the UFC fighter has eyed up a scrap with Jake Paul. Although Till was expected to face former boxing world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on the undercard of Paul vs. Tyson, he has fired numerous shots at ‘The Problem Child’ — telling Ariel Helwani he wants to “bring an end” to influencer boxing. The fight with Tyson is expected to be rescheduled nonetheless. However, Paul has a ton of opponents he could pick from to fill Tyson’s spot in front of a packed house in Arlington, Texas, including his older brother Logan who even offered to step into the ring. Other alternatives include long-time rival KSI — which fans want to see the most. But it appears ‘The Nightmare’ currently has his eyes locked on former unified super-lightweight world champion Amir Khan. The 37-year-old returned from a two-year ban in April 2024 after testing for the banned performance-enhancing drug ostraine. Regardless of what happens between KSI and Khan. The former world champion has made it clear Paul is on his hitlist too, and also offered to replace Tyson. Former WBC Lightweight boxing champ Ryan Garcia has also offered to jump in the ring as a replacement for ‘Iron Mike.’ But there’s no telling who Jake Paul will fight next.

  • Ex-UFC star claims he’s Jake Paul’s backup fighter for Mike Tyson – Dexerto

Ex-UFC star claims he’s Jake Paul’s backup fighter for Mike Tyson Instagram/JakePaul/MikeTysonFormer UFC star Chael Sonnen has claimed that he is Jake Paul’s choice for a backup fighter for Mike Tyson should the Heavyweight boxing icon be unable to make their fight. Ever since Jake Paul and Mike Tyson announced that they would be fighting in July, their fight has had plenty of obstacles to overcome. Not only has the match-up been widely criticized by boxers, boxing fans, and pundits alike, but they’ve also had to contend with the 31-year age gap between them. That has led to some difficult questions about Tyson’s health, and whether or not the fight should be sanctioned as a professional bout. As of now, they will be competing under professional rules. Well, that’s if Tyson makes it to fight night. The 57-year-old had an ulcer flare-up during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on May 27. ‘Iron’ Mike has since said he’s “100%” ahead of the fight, but there’s plenty of time between now and then. So much so, that former UFC star Chael Sonne has claimed that Jake has written him into his fight contract as the backup fighter should Tyson be unable to meet him in the ring. “I guess it was wise of Jake Paul to write me into the contract as Tyson’s backup, wasn’t it???” Sonnen tweeted after the news about Tyson’s medical emergency surfaced. The 47-year-old followed that up a day later by saying that Jake would be fearing him if he realized that they’d have to square off at any point. “If Jake Paul realizes he might be fighting ME in a month, HE may be the one having a heart attack,” Chael posted. Whether or not Chael is telling the truth won’t be revealed until Jake is asked about it, but he’s not the only fighter to say he’d step in. Former WBC Lightweight boxing champ Ryan ‘KingRy’ Garcia has also offered himself as a replacement for Tyson.

  • Ex-UFC champ reveals offer to fight Jake Paul rival on Mike Tyson card – Dexerto

Ex-UFC champ reveals offer to fight Jake Paul rival on Mike Tyson card Most Valuable Promotions – Official InstagramFormer UFC champion Jose Aldo has revealed that he had an offer to fight on the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson undercard, and it was supposed to be against one of Jake’s newest rivals. In mid-March, Jake Paul and Mike Tyson shocked the world when they announced that they’d be fighting. Not only is there a 31-year age gap between the two, but they’d been friendly for a while and previously played down the idea of them actually fighting. Fast forward a few months and things are starting to take shape. The pair will be fighting at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano are co-main eventing the card, and other fights are in the works. One fight that won’t be happening, it seems, would have involved Jose Aldo. The former UFC Featherweight champion has revealed that he was offered a fight on the undercard, but he’s waiting to see if he’s got something cooking in the Octagon first. “As far as boxing is concerned, I actually had a fight scheduled coming up on the Jake Paul card. He had invited me to be part of a great show, the spectacle that it’s going to be, but I’m going to have to sit down and wait for what the UFC offers me,” the Brazillian fighter told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour. “Because of the love and the respect I have for the organization, I want to listen to them. Listen, I do feel very confident in the boxing ring, I feel good doing boxing, I feel have things to accomplish there, but I need to step back and evaluate the UFC’s proposal because my dream was always to be in this organization. Timestamp of 2:22:00 The 37-year-old added that the fight would have been against Indian boxer Neeraj Goyat too, but it’s “out of the question for now.” Now that Jake and ‘Iron’ Mike have kicked off the press events for the fight, the rest of the ard will take shape before long. And with two offers out to former UFC fighters, including Mike Perry, it seems likely that crossover fights will play some part.

  • Ex-boxing champ offers Jake Paul replacement if Mike Tyson can’t fight – Dexerto

Ex-boxing champ offers Jake Paul replacement if Mike Tyson can’t fight YouTube: Jake PaulFormer Lightweight boxing champion Ryan Garcia has offered to step in for Mike Tyson if the Heavyweight icon can’t make his fight against Jake Paul for any reason. The build-up to Jake Paul and Mike Tyson’s superfight has been pretty turbulent so far, especially given the 31-year age gap between them. They’ve had to negotiate different hurdles to get the fight sanctioned as a professional contest, and, despite being broadcast on Netflix, it won’t be scripted – despite some of the claims that have been made. There was another bump in the road on May 27, as it was revealed that ‘Iron’ Mike had suffered an ulcer flare-up during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles and was feeling “dizzy.” That left the former Heavyweight champion to require medical attention upon landing. A spokesperson for Tyson has since told the Mirror that the 57-year-old is “doing great” after that incident, but if it somehow affects him before the fight, Ryan Garcia is willing to step in, in his place. That’s right, the former Interim WBC Lightweight champion, who is coming off a stunning upset victory over Devin Haney, has already messaged Jake about wanting to be Mike’s replacement. “Jakey boo. If you down to fight, if Mike can’t do it, let me know, I will fill in,” Garcia said in an Instagram DM to the ‘Problem Child’ that he has since revealed. It’s certainly an interesting one from ‘KingRy’, seeing as he and Jake have admitted to “faking” their beef in a bid to stir the pot. They’ve both also said that they’d fight if Netflix offered them the chance to do so. Obviously, there is a pretty big weight difference between them, especially now Jake is making the difficult step up to Heavyweight. So, if Tyson was to bow out on medical grounds, then his replacement would surely be someone a bit heavier than Garcia.

  • Ex-boxing champ explains why Mike Tyson will KO Jake Paul amid new rules – Dexerto

Ex-boxing champ explains why Mike Tyson will KO Jake Paul amid new rules NetflixJake Paul agreeing to fight Mike Tyson in a professionally sanctioned boxing match was a grave mistake, according to a former world champion. The long-awaited return to the ring for Mike Tyson is scheduled to take place on July 20, and after weeks of debate, it was confirmed that his bout with Jake Paul will be a professional one. The fight’s rules were also revealed as consisting of eight 2-minute rounds, no headgear, and knockouts will be permitted. While some may think this would favor the young upstart in Jake Paul, ex-world champ and boxing analyst Timothy Bradley believes Mike Tyson will benefit greatly from the match being a sanctioned professional fight. “Mike Tyson, knock his ass out, baby! It can happen. Two minutes is going to favor Mike Tyson… banging him to the body, hitting him with power shots,” the former champ told Marca. “He has the potential to knock this man out. The power is the last thing to leave you. Two minutes, that’s all it takes to knock Disney boy the hell out!” ‘Iron Mike’ has already showcased his training regime in viral videos, indicating that he still has a ton of power behind his punches. Tyson has also been forced to give up marijuana in the lead-up to the match because weed remains on the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation’s banned substances list. Should Mike Tyson KO Jake Paul, it would be the first time he ever hit the mat in his career. ‘The Problem Child’ is currently 9-1 and has secured six wins via KO. His only defeat came in the form of a split-decision loss to Tommy Fury in 2023. Jake Paul and Mike Tyson’s match will also be the first-ever live boxing event on Netflix, with the bout scheduled to take place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

  • Ex-boxing champ calls out KSI and he still wants Jake Paul fight – Dexerto

Ex-boxing champ calls out KSI and he still wants Jake Paul fight DAZNKSI has been called out by Neeraj Goyat, the Indian boxer who is desperate to fight Jake Paul, as his planned fight with the YouTuber-turned-boxer is on hold now that he’s fighting Mike Tyson. Prior to agreeing to a fight with Mike Tyson, Jake Paul was stuck in a war of words with a different boxer – Neeraj Goyat. Goyat, 32, is an Indian Welterweight who has held several national titles as well as being a three-time WBC Asian Champion and is a massive name in his homeland. Goyat has been eager to fight Jake in India and even flew to Puerto Rico prior to the ‘Problem Child’s’ wins over Ryan Bourland to confront him. Jake has said he’s open to the fight happening down the road, but he’s currently preparing for two fights – one in April and another in July against Mike Tyson. One YouTuber boxer that is free, however, is KSI. The Brit had stated he’d retire after losing to Tommy Fury at the end of 2023, but is “back in the gym” and wants to fight Jake Paul. Neeraj Goyat calls out KSI for fight before “promised” Jake Paul clash Well, Goyat has now set his sights on KSI, blasting the YouTube star’s boxing skills and issuing an open challenge to him. “Before Jake Paul, I want to destroy this guy, a British influencer who claims to be a boxer. His name is KSI. Tell him I am the butcher of the boxing ring. So, KSI, it’s an open challenge for you,” the Indian boxer said in an Instagram video on March 18. “If you are a real man, which I doubt, I know you haven’t faced any real boxer in your life. Come fight with me in the boxing ring. I’ll show this world how sh*tty boxer you are, just like your sh*tty music career – it’s very bad. You have to pay the price of disrespecting our South Asian Community.” The boxer added that he’d make it a “catch weight” fight and that KSI wouldn’t have to worry about their sizes matching up. “KSI, if you have balls, which I doubt, accept my challenge,” he concluded. Goyat added that he has been “promised” a fight with Jake in his homeland too. So, that should happen in the future once Jake’s schedule clears up.

  • Embarrassing mistake sees wrong fighter declared winner in world title fight – Dexerto

Embarrassing mistake sees wrong fighter declared winner in world title fight Top Rank BoxingBritish boxer Nina Hughes was declared as the winner of her WBA bantamweight title defense against Cherneka Johnson by the ring announcer, only for the decision to be corrected moments later in a hugely awkward moment. After ring announcer Dan Hennessey boomed into his microphone that Hughes had won the fight, there were wild scenes of jubilation from the Brit’s corner. However, Hennessey had to correct himself shortly after as he had mistakenly announced the wrong winner, going on to tell the crowd that it was in fact Johnson who had won the fight by majority decision in Perth, Australia. The scores were read out again and the Hughes camp was left in disbelief as to what they had just witnessed. “I’ve been robbed,” the 41-year-old said. “I just don’t get it. How can they announce I had won and then change the scores? I thought I’d dominated early. I thought she won a few of the later rounds but I felt like I won it comfortably. “I don’t get how you can announce the winner and then change the scores. It’s a joke. I feel like I’ve been robbed big time. There’s got to be a rematch. I didn’t lose that fight.” Speaking later on at her post-fight press conference, Hughes added: “I’ve got no words. I was countering her jabs with three or four shots; I don’t see how you can win a fight just landing a jab when you get hit with three or four shots every time. “The ring announcer obviously thought I’d won, that is why he looked at the scorecard and announced it that way. So, to have it overturned…” Taking to social media, Hughes posted: “The dirty side of the sport I love.” Despite the chaotic scenes inside the ring, the judges ruled in Johnson’s favor with scores of 98-92 and 96-94, while the final judge scored the contest as a draw. “I’m not the judge and I’m just glad that they figured out the wrong decision,” Johnson said. “Nina was a tough fight. I’m not the judges but I definitely think I won that fight. I’m just over the moon I won this bout.” Hughes has since called for a rematch, something that Johnson has admitted she would be open to. The pair fought on the undercard of Vasiliy Lomachenko vs George Kambosos Jr, where the Ukrainian stopped the Australian in the 11th round.

Elle Brooke next fight: Misfits champion set for Paige VanZant rematch DAZN X SeriesElle Brooke’s next fight is set to see her take on Paige VanZant as the pair head for a rematch following their split decision draw at Misfits Boxing X Series 015. Brooke and VanZant fought their way to a draw when they headlined the last Misfits event in Houston, Texas on May 25. The Brit retained her status as middleweight champion, but the die-hard Man City fan will no doubt be eager to set the record straight and prove that she is the better fighter. Here is all you need to know about Brooke’s next fight as a rematch with VanZant starts to take shape. Elle Brooke next fight Brooke and VanZant are both set for a rematch in London in August this year following their split decision draw at Misfits X Series 015. Misfits Boxing co-founder Mams Taylor said: “We’re going to see them back in the ring in the UK. Elle came out here on Paige’s turf now Paige is going to return the favor now in the UK. “It was decided in that very ring moments after the announcement of it being a draw. They both want it. Let’s run it back.” After the fight, Brooke said: “I was just saying to Paige, we now get a big money rematch. This is perfect,” while VanZant took to social media as she posted,”Rematch. August. O2 Arena.” Ebanie Bridges fight on the horizon Brooke has made no secret of her friendship with Ebanie Bridges, and now it seems that a fight between the pair could materialize in the near future. When asked if there was an older female boxer she would like to take on, the Brit had one name in mind that would meet the criteria. “There’s so many female boxers that are more current because it hasn’t really been going on for that long,” she told Express US Sports. “One day I would absolutely love to fight Ebanie Bridges. She is my best friend and my sister, but I think that we could make that fight sell.” Elle Brooke boxing record Brooke’s boxing record stands at 4-1-1: four wins, one defeat and one draw across her six fights so far. Only Jully Poca, our number one ranked pound for pound boxer on the influencer scene, has managed to get the better of Brooke inside the boxing ring. She has defeated AJ Bunker (twice), Faith Ordway and Aleksandra Daniel (Ms Danielka) on her way to claiming Misfits Boxing’s middleweight crown. Despite not getting the win over VanZant, the draw ensured that she retained her status as champion at 125 pounds. How Brooke vs VanZant unfolded Brooke got off to a blistering start when the pair met in Texas on Saturday, May 25. VanZant, a former UFC fighter making her Misfits debut, was on the backfoot from the start. The American was rocked by a big right hand from the Brit as she hit the canvas inside the first round. Unfortunately for Brooke, she was not able to build on her momentum and bring the fight to an early end. VanZant recovered and forced the bout to go the distance, where the judges ruled the contest as a draw after five intense rounds of action. Elle Brooke boxing record after Paige Vanzant draw at Misfits Series X 015 DAZNElle Brooke and Paige VanZant went toe-to-toe as they headlined Misfits Boxing’s Series X 015 event on May 25. Brooke, 26, retained the Misfits Boxing women’s middleweight title after a split decision draw with VanZant, with a rematch now looking likely against the former UFC star and bare-knuckle boxer. Ahead of a potential rematch, here is Brooke’s overall boxing record and the opponents she has faced on her way to the crown at 125 pounds. Elle Brooke boxing record Overall, Elle Brooke’s boxing record in full stands at 4-1-1: four wins, one defeat and one draw, with two victories by knockout along the way. Only Jully Poca, our number one ranked pound for pound boxer on the influencer scene, has managed to get the better of Brooke inside the boxing ring. AJ Bunker, 2022 Brooke made her boxing debut in July 2022 with a unanimous decision victory over AJ Bunker. Bunker stepped in at late notice and it showed as Brooke’s technique shone through compared to that of her opponent on her way to a points win after their four-round bout. After the fight, the content creator expressed her disappointment at not being able to land a knockout punch, but her opponent left the ring convinced that she had done enough, with Bunker going to claim that she wanted a rematch “when I can have more than two weeks’ notice.” Faith Ordway, 2023 If Brooke was annoyed that she failed to land a knockout blow in her last fight, she would be all smiles after her bout with influencer Faith Ordway. After an explosive start to the fight, a flurry of punches from Brooke left the referee with no choice but to stop the contest inside the first round. Ordway was frustrated by the decision as he questioned why the fight was brought to a premature end, but with blood pouring from her face and Brooke landing some vicious shots, it was a matter of time before the referee stepped in. Aleksandra Daniel, 2023 After breezing through her fight against Ordway, Brooke would be tested against Aleksandra Daniel (aka Ms Danielka) in the quarter-finals of the Kingpyn High Stakes tournament. Many thought that Brooke would walk the fight, but she got as good as she gave from her Polish opponent, who grew into the contest as the bout drew on. However, Brooke more than won over the judges – who were clearly impressed with the Brit’s technique and consistent use of the jab – as she was won by unanimous decision. Jully Poca, 2023 On July 15, 2023, Brooke suffered her first – and so far, only – defeat of her career at the hands of Jully Poca. Poca held a significant reach advantage over her opponent that proved to be too big a gap for Brooke to overcome as the Brazilian romped home to a unanimous decision win. But it would not be long before Brooke got back to winning ways against a familiar opponent… AJ Bunker 2, 2024 The rematch to crown the Misfits Boxing women’s middleweight title. Despite losing to Brooke back in 2022, Bunker came into the fight with the belt. But a monster right hand from the 26-year-old left her opponent flat on the canvas in the third round. Although Bunker, a former Love Island star, would rise to her feet during the count, the referee saw that although someone was at home, the lights weren’t on, as he drew a close to the fight and crowned Brooke as the new champion at 125 pounds. Paige Vanzant, 2024 Brooke faced her biggest test yet when she took on the former UFC star in a headline show in Houston, Texas, in what was classed as her first professional fight. The 26-year-old had promised to show her qualities against a fully fledged professional opponent and she did just that, sending Vanzant to the canvas with a crushing right hand in the first round. Vanzant fought her way back into the fight and earned a split decision draw but both fighters have now called for a rematch. Brooke has called for Vanzant to come to London, and the 30-year-old has suggested an August fight date at London’s O2 Arena. • Eddie Hearn slams Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson “freak show” – Dexerto

Eddie Hearn slams Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson “freak show” YouTube: The Stomping Ground/NetflixEddie Hearn has labeled Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson as a “freak show”, admitting that he will wait and see who is on the undercard before deciding whether to watch the fight or not. Tyson, 57, will take on Paul, 27, on July, 20. The fight will be streamed live on Netflix, taking place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL‘s Dallas Cowboys. Tyson Fury has claimed that the bout is “fantastic for boxing“, as the Gypsy King shared his support for the fight. Yet Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Hearn, has now given a scathing assessment of the upcoming fight as he refused to hold back in his critique of the contest. Eddie Hearn: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson a “freak show” “It’s difficult, you know my opinion, I’ve given interviews on it before,” Hearn told the Stomping Ground’s YouTube channel. “But if you say anything negative, you’re a hater. I get the event. I know what people want to see. They want to see freak shows. And that’s what it is, it’s a freak show. Topic starts at 15:40. “It’ll do really well. People will tune in. But it’s not for everyone. If you grew up watching Mike Tyson and he’s one of your greatest fighters of all-time, the last thing you want to do is see him get back in the ring at 58-years-old [when the fight takes place on July, 20] and lose to Jake Paul. “The general consensus from the casual audience is ‘Oh that’s a bit of a freak show, I’ll watch that’. Who knows what’s going to be on the card, maybe it’s a great night of boxing, we’ll see.” Asked whether he will watch the fight, Hearn replied: “We’ll see. We’ll see what’s on the undercard. I don’t know.”

  • Eddie Hearn reveals major first fight on Matchroom vs Queensberry card – on one condition – Dexerto

Eddie Hearn reveals major first fight on Matchroom vs Queensberry card – on one condition Matchroom BoxingEddie Hearn has teased that a world title unification fight could be included on the highly anticipated Matchroom vs Queensberry boxing card. It was confirmed earlier this year that Hearn will gather five of his Matchroom stable to take on rival promoter Frank Warren’s Queensberry stable in a five-on-five event, expected to take place later this year. Saudi promoter Turki Alalsheikh has confirmed his plans to stage the event, with Hearn and Warren now working together on the Riyadh Season shows after years of being at loggerheads. Raymond Ford could be included in Matchroom vs Queensberry card One world champion who could be included on the card is newly crowned WBA featherweight world champion Raymond Ford. The US fighter dramatically stopped the big punching Uzbek fighter, Otabek Kholmatov, to win the vacant title at 126lbs on Saturday, and his stock has now risen dramatically as a result. And Hearn has teased a unification bout between Ford and British fighter Nick Ball, who is promoted by Warren, could be in the works – if Ball dethrones WBC champion Rey Vargas on the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou on Friday. “He found it tough to make the weight this time,” Hearn said of Ford. “He is already talking about moving up to super-featherweight but when you win a belt like that, you really want to defend it. “A lot of your value is in the belt. Next week, in Saudi, there is a great fight. Nick Ball against Rey Vargas. It will be really interesting to see who wins that. “If Nick Ball wins, maybe we get that cut stitched up and stick Ray on the five v five. He has become a star now in American boxing and a lot of people watched that show tonight. “A lot of people will have become a Ray Ford fan and I would like to see him make one or two defenses and maybe a unification fight and then move up to super-featherweight. “We have some champions there as well and he is going to be around for a long time.”

  • Eddie Hearn issues Tyson Fury plea after “destructive” Anthony Joshua knockout – Dexerto

Eddie Hearn issues Tyson Fury plea after “destructive” Anthony Joshua knockout @DAZNBoxingEddie Hearn has pleaded with Tyson Fury to beat Oleksandr Usyk to set up “the biggest fight in the history of the sport” against Anthony Joshua after his knockout win over Francis Ngannou. Joshua made light work of Ngannou after he knocked him down in the first round, before delivering the final knockout blow in the second. Ngannou was out cold on the canvas for some time after he was caught by a devastating right hand that took the 37-year-old’s legs from underneath him. Eddie Hearn desperate for Tyson Fury to beat Usyk Fury, who was watching on ringside, could not help but stand and applaud after the display. And AJ’s promoter, Hearn, soon turned his attention to the Gypsy King. “There is a brilliant fighter down there called Tyson fury,” Hearn said after the bout. “Please, please beat Oleksandr Usyk on May 18. I promise you this, you will get the biggest fight in the history of the sport when Anthony Joshua takes the undisputed world championship.” “That was one of the most destructive knockouts I’ve ever seen,” he added. “People talk about how Tyson Fury did against Ngannou, forget about that. What I said would happen, happened. He went in there, he destroyed Francis Ngannou. “This man is a savage, a beast the best heavyweight in the world. I cannot wait for him to beat Tyson fury.” Fury himself is recovering from a freak sparring injury that left him with a cut eye needing 11 stitches. The 35-year-old did however provide a positive update ahead of his bout with Usyk, as fans slowly start to dream of what a fight between Fury and Joshua might look like.

  • Eddie Hearn has shown Deontay Wilder what he has been missing out on all these years – Dexerto

Eddie Hearn has shown Deontay Wilder what he has been missing out on all these years Title Sports NetworkEddie Hearn and Deontay Wilder have not always seen eye to eye. So when the ‘Bronze Bomber’ was announced as part of Matchroom Boxing’s ‘5 vs 5’ to take on Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions – eyebrows were raised. For about the last six years, the pair have engaged in a war of words, primarily due to their differing opinions as to why a fight with Anthony Joshua never materialized. Wilder claimed that it was Hearn’s fault for the bout falling through, while AJ’s promoter laid blame at the feet of the American heavyweight’s camp. But the pair have put any bad blood to one side, with Wilder now taking on Zhilei Zhang in a fight that could well be his very last in the sport. Hearn has joked that they are now “besties”, as he explained the complications of the AJ rivalry around their relationship. “Obviously we’ve always had the rivalry through AJ, but I got told to sign a heavyweight for the division and I believe Deontay Wilder will bounce back in style,” Hearn told iFL TV ahead of the 5 v 5. “I have made him my captain and who knows where it goes after this, but we just need to go through Zhilei Zhang.” As captain, Wilder can earn double points for his team with a win. Draws get you nothing, a win via the judges secures a point, while a knockout brings home two points. Hearn, therefore, is no doubt looking to Wilder’s fabled right-hand to find the knockout blow against Zhang, something he has done in 42 of the 43 fights he has won. Hearn explained it best when he gatecrashed a recent interview with Wilder and Title Sports Network. But it was the reaction of the American to the silky-smooth words that came out of the promoter’s mouth that really captured the attention. “He’s the fighter on the card with the highest profile,” Hearn began. “He’s the most popular fighter, he’s the fighter that has achieved the most in the sport. He’s one of the most exciting fighters on the planet – and more importantly – he’s one of the most feared fighters of all. “You know when you play the Ryder Cup? You want ‘your guy’ going last, you want Tiger Woods in the last group to win it all. “We may have to come from behind, we may need Deontay to win by knockout, but I can sit there and go: ‘Go on my man, go and rack up those four points.’ “That’s why I did it. You’ve got other guys, younger guys, more experienced guys – this is a guy who has been around. And he can hold his composure. “Zhilei Zhang said some bad things tonight so we’re going to f*** him up on Saturday night.” Hearn’s last point there came in reference to Zhang claiming that Wilder was made Matchroom’s captain in an attempt from the promoter to “kiss his a***”. But the reality is, albeit just a soundbite, it was yet another example of Hearn’s gift of the gab. Wilder was captivated by every word that came out of his mouth, and who can blame him. This of course is nothing new to boxing, Hearn has been a master at it for years. In truth, despite Frank Warren’s opinion no doubt, he is the best in the business. If one hijacked interview wasn’t enough to prove to Wilder what life would be like – or perhaps more hauntingly – could have been like under Hearn, then look no further than the rousing pre-fight team talk he gave to his five fighters. One by one, Hearn went down the line and built up the drama and tension for each fighter and why this bout means so much to them. “We’ve come a long way, mate” he says to Craig Richards, “This is your moment, this is your stage…time for you to deliver.” Turning to Raymond Ford, it goes up a notch. “The best 126-pounder in the world, no doubt. You are about to see this man change his life.” “Ammo Williams,” he continues. “Everything you have been through to this point, takes you to this moment…You take this guy to pieces.” “Filip, I’ve lost count of the number of people who have told me this may be the best heavyweight in the world,” his sights firmly set on Hrgovic. “Your time has come.” And then he gets to his captain, Wilder. You could hear a pin drop. “Deontay, we haven’t always got on. But I admire you, I respect you. And as they say, setbacks pave the way for comebacks. “You are one dangerous, dangerous man. When you destroy this man to my right, Zhilei Zhang, the whole world is going to take notice that you are back.” Never mind Wilder, I was ready to fight Zhang after that rousing speech. Then two things hit me (no pun intended): 1) What a promoter to have in your corner; and 2) What a shame that this hasn’t happened before. This is not to take pity on Wilder’s career. His trilogy with Tyson Fury is one for the ages. It is simply a case of ‘what could have been’ if the pair had teamed up. Eddie Hearn’s promotional skills selling one of the biggest punchers in the heavyweight division? Sign me up. Sadly though, the 38-year-old is inching closer to retirement. Should Wilder get the job done over Zhang, a fight with AJ would certainly be a lot easier to arrange now. However, Messrs Hrgovic, Dubois, Usyk and Fury may just tell him to get in line. It may only be for one fight, but Hearn backing Wilder has been a joy to watch, listen to and engage with. Let’s hope Wilder delivers the knockout blow we know he’s capable of. It could just prove to be the start of a brilliant partnership in his twilight years. For all the biggest results and upcoming fights this year, check out Dexerto’s 2024 boxing schedule.

  • Ebanie Bridges will fight Paige Vanzant on one condition amid Misfits boxing rumors – Dexerto

Ebanie Bridges will fight Paige Vanzant on one condition amid Misfits boxing rumors Associated PressEbanie Bridges will be the “first to call out” Paige Vanzant, should the former UFC star beat Elle Brooke at this weekend’s Misfits X Series 15 card in Houston, Texas. Bridges, who is a former boxing world champion, is considering a move into influencer boxing after not being able to secure another fight in the professional ranks since losing her world title to Miyo Yoshida in December 2023. The 37-year-old has trained alongside Misfits Boxing star, Brooke, and is rooting for her to win at the NRG Arena on Saturday. However, should Brooke not emerge victorious, Bridges admits she would be interest in a fight with former UFC star, Vanzant herself. “Obviously, I want Elle to win. But, at the same time, if she loses it means I will be the first one calling out Paige,” Bridges told Lord Ping. “I can’t say there is even a little bit of me that hopes Paige wins because I do really want Elle to win. “If Elle wins, it is going to be so big for her and she is such a beautiful soul. People don’t understand; she works so hard, she trains once or twice a day, plus she does all of her content. “She does all of her TikTok stuff, she does all of her OnlyFans stuff and it is constant content creation and I have no idea how she does it. She is a grafter man, I have to respect her for doing it. “I couldn’t do it because I struggle to keep on top of my content, it’s really not easy to combine content creation with boxing. After finishing training, you just want to go home and sleep because you’re dieting – you don’t want to go out and put on a face and act. Nothing but respect for that girl. “But, if Paige does win, I’ll be getting in there to show you how it’s done.” The “Blonde Bomber”, who boasts a 9-2 record in the professional ranks, is a social media sensation away from the boxing ring and has over 863,000 followers on Instagram, as well as over 357,000 followers on X. As such, Bridges – who has also done promotional work for Conor McGregor’s Forged Irish Stout brand – could quite easily make the transition to influencer boxing like Tommy Fury did successfully last year. With no offers imminently on the table, Bridges admits it is something which could interest her as she looks towards her next fight. “Money talks. It’s that simple,” Bridges added, while speaking to Online Slots. “I’m at an age where I’ve been a world champion, you can’t take that away from me. I’ve got my belt over there. “Obviously I’d like to get more belts. I’d like to get my belt back, but if that’s not happening and boxing can’t make that happen, then if someone can offer me some more money then I’ll go where the money is. “It’s one or the other. If I had a choice between a world title fight and a lot more money, I’d probably still go for the world title fight because I want to win a world title. But if I’m not even getting that option then yeah, sure, give me the money.” For more influencer boxing matches taking place this year, be sure to check out our hub to stay tuned to all the best fights.

  • Drake bets $600k on Joshua-Ngannou fight despite infamous ‘Drake Curse’ – Dexerto

Drake bets $600k on Joshua-Ngannou fight despite infamous ‘Drake Curse’ Associated PressHip-hop artist Drake placed a sizable bet ahead of the Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou match – but fans are already calling out his infamous ‘Drake Curse.’ Drake posted a screenshot of his $600k bet on former UFC champion Francis Ngannou on Instagram. It would net him nearly $2 million if the MMA star upsets former boxing champion Anthony Joshua on March 8. News of the wager immediately caught fire on social media as fans began mentioning Drake’s long history of failed sports bets over the years. A history of the ‘Drake Curse’ From his home country team the Toronto Raptors to his favorite college basketball squad the Kentucky Wildcats, Drake has a long history of ‘cursing’ those that he places wagers on. Perhaps the most infamous instance came in the 2015-16 NBA season when Drake bet on the 73-9 Golden State Warriors to win the NBA Finals. As fans know, the Warriors would go on to blow a 3-1 lead in the finals to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. As for his history with combat sports wagers, Drake was on the wrong side of history for the Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov scrum. Now, it’s up to Ngannou to reverse the curse and make good on Drake’s belief in him. Or, as some have suggested on social media, maybe Drake is actually putting a ‘reverse jinx’ on Joshua. It wouldn’t be the first time he’s tried to reverse the ‘curse.’ Joshua is a proven star in the boxing world. He’s a two-time unified World Heavyweight Champion with a 27-3 professional record. Ngannou is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion known for his trademark power. He currently fights for the Professional Fighters League. Joshua and Ngannou will meet in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in a ten-round bout with a sold-out crowd of passionate fans. Drake is banking on Ngannou’s power to shine through. It instantly will become one of the biggest upsets in recent memory if Joshua loses.

  • Doctors weigh in on Jake Paul steroid accusations ahead of Mike Tyson fight – Dexerto

Doctors weigh in on Jake Paul steroid accusations ahead of Mike Tyson fight Associated PressJake Paul has faced accusations of steroid use ever since he started his journey in professional boxing – and now doctors have weighed in as his fight with Mike Tyson approaches. On November 15, Jake Paul will be battling returning boxing legend Mike Tyson in Netflix’s first-ever live combat sports event, but the bout hasn’t been without controversy. The fight was originally set for July 20, but got delayed when the 58-year-old suffered an ulcer flare-up during a flight in May. Additionally, plenty of fight fans have criticized Jake for agreeing to fight Tyson to begin with, with many in the combat sports world concerned for ‘Iron Mike’ and his health at this stage of his life. However, one other factor at play, as suggested by former MMA fighter Dillon Danis, is that Paul is on steroids. On August 6, he tweeted a picture of an acne-ridden Jake with the caption, “Steroids are bad kids.” New York-based physician Dr Stuart Fischer said the photo is “definitely suspicious.” Fischer explained to The Daily Mail that steroids can weaken the skin of someone who uses them and cause hormonal fluctuations, which can lead to acne and hair loss. Sports performance nutritionist Tom Coughlin also chimed in, noting that ‘The Problem Child’ would certainly “have a reason” to use steroids and “improve his performance,” using his TKO win against Mike Perry as an example. “He’s certainly not, I suppose, put under the same sort of scrutiny as a professional athlete would when it comes to that,” he added. However, neither expert believes the photo is a “smoking gun” and have no way of knowing for sure if Jake is on steroids without first testing him. Jake’s alleged steroid use has been a hot topic over the years, with former UFC fighter Nate Diaz accusing him of being on the juice in 2023. His brother, Logan Paul, even grilled him over the claims in an awkward lie-detector test video back in June. While hooked up to the lie detector, Logan asked Jake if he was on performance-enhancing drugs, to which the boxer responded: “If taking Viagra counts, then yes. It’s performance-enhancing, brother.” Paul then replied with a simple “no,” and the test proctor determined he was being truthful.

  • DJ Akademiks says KSI’s Misfits Boxing offered him $1.5M to fight Meek Mill – Dexerto

DJ Akademiks says KSI’s Misfits Boxing offered him $1.5M to fight Meek Mill YouTube: DJ Akademiks, ComplexDJ Akademiks claims that KSI’s Misfits Boxing promotion offered him a whopping $1.5 million to fight rapper Meek Mill in the ring — but he says Meek isn’t responding. DJ Akademiks’ ongoing feud with rapper Meek Mill might be coming to a boiling point very soon if the podcast host’s latest claims are anything to go by. Their beef first kicked off in February after Akademiks accused Mill of having an intimate relationship with Diddy. Meek was quick to hit back, calling Akademiks “an alcoholic fully powered by the white man.” The rapper even asked for Akademiks’ home address, saying he was willing to “die to shut you down” as the two traded verbal blows on social media in a series of posts that have since been deleted. Now, it looks like the two are getting offers to exchange fists in the ring for an eye-popping payout — at least, according to Akademiks. DJ Akademiks reveals Misfits’ $1.5M offer to box Meek Mill During a podcast on March 12, Akademiks claimed that two different boxing promotions reached out to him offering to set up a fight with Mill. One of these was KSI’s Misfits Boxing, a promotion dedicated to bringing influencer-boxing events into the limelight that has partnered with networks like DAZN in the past. Akademiks says that Misfits allegedly offered him $1.5M for the fight… but claims his potential opponent hasn’t made a peep. “I’m trying to get in the boxing ring with him!” he exclaimed. “This is a legal way, nobody’s gotta get in trouble, you walk away with a bunch of money… and you can say you knocked me out for the rest of your life.” “We could settle whatever in the ring,” he continued. “He’s not responding, though. I don’t know. I really don’t know. …If you been the number one street **** from Philly for ten years, you don’t want that to end with one knockout to a **** you just called a nerd.” For now, nothing has been set in stone regarding this potential match, but the possibility has certainly left the rap community’s ears pricked as they wait for Mill’s response.

  • Dillon Danis’ lawyer quits Nina Agdal defamation case after not getting paid – Dexerto

Dillon Danis’ lawyer quits Nina Agdal defamation case after not getting paid Instagram: DillonDanis, ninaagdalDillon Danis’ lawyer has withdrawn from the defamation case filed by Logan Paul’s fiance Nina Agdal, claiming he wasn’t paid properly by the MMA fighter. In the months leading up to his fight against Logan Paul in October 2023, MMA star Dillon Danis took to social media to “troll” the YouTuber-turned-boxer. Quick jabs against Logan quickly turned into sharing photos of his fiancee Nina Agdal – some real and some not – appearing beside various male celebrities with the intention to reveal possible former relationships and supposed physical moments. Agdal filed a defamation lawsuit against Danis just weeks later, which has been tied up in the legal system for a year due to various issues like him failing to appear in court, further delaying the proceedings. On September 12, 2024, Danis’ lawyer filed a motion to withdraw as his attorney, citing “failure to comply with the terms of the Firm’s retainer agreement.” “The retainer agreement, among other things, required Defendant to pay a retainer and to pay the firm’s monthly invoices within twenty (20) days to ensure that the retainer remained ‘evergreen,’” the filing reads. “Defendant has failed to pay the firm’s monthly invoices in a timely fashion and has failed to maintain the required retainer agreement at the agreed-upon level. This has been a recurring problem. In addition, Defendant has become non-responsive to counsel’s communications, including communications regarding Orders entered by the Court. “Defendant only responded to communications regarding the issues referenced above when I communicated that I would be withdrawing as counsel.” His lawyer did make it clear, however, that he would “prefer” to continue representing him as he “personally likes Mr. Danis” and “finds this case to be an interesting one,” but says the firm won’t allow him to stay due to the MMA star’s failure to pay his retainer. This comes after the court ordered Danis to provide the phone used to make the social media posts, but he has failed to do so, stating he couldn’t find the device. Danis hasn’t shared many updates regarding his MMA career over the months since Nina Agdal filed the lawsuit against him, but hinted that he is preparing for his next opponent back in April 2024. He didn’t share who that opponent was at the time, but Mams Taylor tweeted on September 16 that he was supposed to go against Mike Perry in the first-ever Misfits MMA event.

  • Devin Haney slams Ryan Garcia for disrespectful fight prediction – Dexerto

Devin Haney slams Ryan Garcia for disrespectful fight prediction DAZN – YouTubeDevin Haney viciously slammed Ryan Garcia after getting trolled during a face-to-face interview on Sunday ahead of their super lightweight title fight on April 20. Garcia is looking to capture his first major boxing title against the current WBC champion at 140 pounds. The Mexican-American knockout artist also has the chance to salvage his image after getting knocked out by reigning WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis in April of 2023. He boasted of his potential to end the upcoming Haney fight early in uncharacteristic fashion but Haney responded with a brutal gut-check. Devin Haney blasts Ryan Garcia for being a quitter Haney questioned Garcia’s credibility in Sunday’s airing of DAZN’s “Face Off,” citing that he has not scored a knockout against an elite-level fighter in his 25-fight career. He also clowned the 25-year-old for being a one-trick pony. Garcia shot down that notion and mocked the California native by declaring that he’d knock him out with his offhand on fight night. “Bro it would be funny if I knock you out with a right hand. How hilarious would that would be? ‘Only has a left hook’ and then, boom! That would be comedy,” Garcia said. The Ring’s No. 7 pound-for-pound fighter in the world found Garcia’s boast to be the actual comedy. He resurfaced the way in which Garcia fell to Davis in a stinging shot to his ego. “I feel like I’m levels above him,” Haney asserted. “I feel like he hasn’t fought on that elite level, but when he did, he quit. At the end of the day, rather he wants to admit it or not, the world watched him take a knee. The world watched him Colin Kaepernick. So at the end of the day, what has he really done on the elite level?” Garcia did take a knee following Davis’ punishing body shot in the seventh round of their megafight last year. While he bounced back in an eighth-round KO victory against Oscar Duarte in December of 2033, he has not garnered the same support from savants who question his durability, chin, and versatility. Haney made sure to put his lowest moment as a professional on the front street. The former undisputed lightweight champion has won all of his last eight bouts by way of unanimous decision, so he may not knockout Garcia as he also claimed on Sunday. Though, he has no fear of being put to the canvas either.

  • Devin Haney next fight: Gervonta Davis mega fight hit by mandatory roadblock – Dexerto

Devin Haney next fight: Gervonta Davis mega fight hit by mandatory roadblock Associated PressDevin Haney may have lost to Ryan Garcia last time out but the controversial circumstances which surrounded the bout have ensured he retained his WBC super-lightweight world title. Haney was knocked down three times as he fell to a majority decision loss to long-time rival, Garcia, who he had previously shared the ring with six times as an amateur. But Garcia weighed in over the 140 pounds limit for the fight so could not win Haney’s world title. And his win could even be scratched off the record books after he tested positive for the performance enhancing drug, ostarine. Garcia will have to wait for the results of a hearing from the New York Boxing commission to discover his fate but whether Haney’s first defeat on his record is overturned or not, the American must banish the demons of the Garcia fight with an excellent comeback performance. Obviously, an immediate rematch with Garcia is off the table, but Haney remains one of the biggest draws among fighters in the super-lightweight and lightweight divisions and the two-weight world champion is not short of options for his next fight. As such, Dexerto Sport have taken a look at some of the lucrative options that will be on the table for ‘The Dream’. WBC mandatory challenger Haney has some huge fights he could make around his weight division but the elephant in the room is that the WBC have ordered him to defend his world title against Spanish fighter Sandro Martin. Martin is no slouch, either, having beaten former four-weight world champion Mikey Garcia, as well as losing to two-weight world champion Teofimo Lopez via a controversial split decision. The 30-year-old has won twice since that loss to Lopez and he would represent a legitimate threat to Haney’s WBC world title. Super-lightweight unification options Haney could also pursue a unification fight with any of the three other super-lightweight world champions, should he manage to negotiate with Martin to step aside. All three world champions have upcoming fights but that does not mean Haney could not hold on to fight one of them in his next bout. IBF champion Subriel Matias shares a promoter with Haney and should he win past Liam Paro on June 15 that, theoretically, shouldn’t be a difficult fight to make. WBA champion Isaac Cruz is slated to defend his belt against Jose Valenzuela on August 3 and scheduling issues, as well as the fact he is promoted by Premier Boxing Champions, would pose potential problems in that fight being made next. The most lucrative super-lightweight unification fight would be with fellow two-weight world champion Teofimo Lopez, who defends his WBO belt on June 29 against Steve Claggett. Both fighters would make a lot of money and it would be a fight that would define both men’s legacies. Concessions would have to be made on broadcasters and who promotes the bill. But Haney, who is promoted by Matchroom Boxing, has worked with Top Rank (Lopez’s promoters) in the past in fights against Vasiliy Lomachenko and George Kambosos Jr, so there is precedent there to suggest he would do so again. Gervonta Davis mega fight among lightweight options There are three lightweight world champions that are huge names, too, and all three would provide Haney a money-spinning fight, should they choose to step up to the super-lightweight division. IBF champion Vasiliy Lomachenko lost to Haney via a controversial unanimous decision when they clashed for the undisputed lightweight world titles in May 2023, so the narrative would write itself for a rematch. WBC champion Shakur Stevenson is already a three-weight world champion and has made no secret of his desire to step up to a fourth weight class in the future. Meanwhile, Gervonta Davis is seen as the best pound for pound fighter across both divisions and the WBA lightweight world champion has been supportive of Garcia in the aftermath of his fight with Haney. Davis and Haney had an altercation with each other in Las Vegas in May and Garcia infamously leaked sparring footage of Davis getting the better of Haney. One stumbling block is that Davis is arguably the crowning jewel of fighters promoted by Premier Boxing Champions and compromises would have to be made between broadcasters and promoters. Nonetheless, should Davis win past Frank Martin on June 15, expect both fighters to call each other out for a mega fight. Matchroom challengers Should Haney remain under Matchroom Boxing’s promotional banner, they boast three fighters at super-lightweight who are ready to fight for world title honors. Jack Catterall lost a controversial split decision to Josh Taylor to become the undisputed super-lightweight champion back in 2022. He has since avenged that loss and is keen on a world title shot. As mentioned earlier, Australian boxer Liam Paro is challenging Subriel Matias. Whoever loses that fight would be keen to get straight back in at world level. Meanwhile, Richardson Hitchins is the mandatory challenger for the IBF belt and he will also be keen to fight for a world title next. It is unlikely they would take precedence over Haney’s mandatory title fight, a unification fight or a mega fight with one of the three lightweight world champions, but all three fighters will be on Haney’s radar, particularly while they share the same promoter. • Devin Haney hits back after Ryan Garcia leaks Gervonta Davis sparring session – Dexerto

Devin Haney hits back after Ryan Garcia leaks Gervonta Davis sparring session YouTube/Ryan GarciaDevin Haney has accused Ryan Garcia’s team of editing footage from his famous sparring session with Gervonta Davis. Haney, now 25, was a teenager when he sparred with Davis, who is four years older than the Californian, and a 103-second clip shared by Garcia of the session on Twitter shows Davis dominating the youngster in the ring. However, Haney took to X to accuse Garcia of sharing a “chopped up edited” version of the session in order to make it look worse than it was. Haney wrote: “Never did they post a chopped up edited video.. 16 years old & in there holding my own. We bet AB pops & he honored it & paid! Ryan we watched u quit we are not the same & never will be tune in April 20th I’ll show it!” Haney previously claimed to have “beaten the s***” out of Davis in the session. Fans unimpressed with Garcia Fight fans on X had their say on the video leak, with one suggesting that Garcia was wrong to share it. “I don’t understand why Garcia would go this low,” they wrote. “Sparring is not meant to be a real fight and you’re not supposed to share footage of it. This is just low smh. “Sparring is meant to be a way for you to get better and to hone your craft. This does nothing to make Haney look inferior. Disappointed in Ryan tbh.” Another wrote: “17 year old Haney didn’t get knocked down and 17 year old Haney didn’t take a knee. 24 year old Ryan did.” Meanwhile, the second leg of the Haney-Garcia press conference tour took place in Los Angeles on Thursday. Haney had originally said he wouldn’t be turning up for it due to Garcia’s behaviour in the build-up. Garcia had claimed he was “high as f***” in a Space on X as he spoke about the fight in midweek. Garcia arrived to the press conference on horseback before proceeding to defend his social media actions. “I want to clarify some things,” Garcia said. “I don’t do cocaine. I drink and I smoke weed, and so does the majority in this room.”

  • Devin Haney accuses “alcoholic” Ryan Garcia of being drunk at fiery press conference – Dexerto

Devin Haney accuses “alcoholic” Ryan Garcia of being drunk at fiery press conference Twitter/Fight HypeDevin Haney accused Ryan Garcia of turning up to their press conference in New York drunk as the two clashed ahead of their fight in April. There is no love lost between the two Californian fighters and a heated face-off followed the press conference. “You’re drunk! You’re an alcoholic!” Haney said, before Garcia responded: “I’ll drink a beer and beat the f*** out of you. How about I beat the f*** out of you?” What was said during the press conference and after it Haney repeated the accusation, which has not been corroborated, when speaking to reporters afterwards. “Ryan was at the mother f****** press conference drunk as a skunk. Hopefully he gets it together before April 20th and I’m gonna have him punch drunk on that day,” said Haney. “Ryan is an alcoholic, he drinks a lot. We don’t know which Ryan we’re gonna get. We don’t know, he might be off a bottle of Casamigos (tequila) when you’re talking to him.” During the press conference itself, both men delivered confident opening gambits. Garcia, whose only career loss came against Gervonta Davis last year, said: “This is a big opportunity for me. I want to go for legacy and belts, Devin is in the way and I’m on my vengeance arc. I’m coming straight for his neck I promise you that.” Haney, meanwhile, said: “This is going to be a hell of an event. We’ve seen Ryan quit before and take a knee before. On April 20th it will be no different. DAZN have put the bounty up, and on April 20th I’m capturing the bounty and coming home with the victory.”

  • Deontay Wilder’s trainer reveals why “killer” instinct will return vs. Zhilei Zhang – Dexerto

Deontay Wilder’s trainer reveals why “killer” instinct will return vs. Zhilei Zhang Associated PressDeontay Wilder and his team are confident that his inner dog will resurface in his next bout against Zhilei Zhang. The former WBC heavyweight champion lost his last boxing match in a unanimous decision to Joseph Parker on December 23, 2023. It was Wilder’s third loss in his last four fights and dropped him to 43-3-1 for his career. Wilder’s skills were questioned after his trilogy against Tyson Fury and that was only exacerbated after the Parker loss. Nevertheless, the 38-year-old is ready to make a statement against Zhang on June 1 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The knockout specialist’s team is ready too. In an exclusive interview with Instant Casinos, Wilder’s trainer Malik Scott revealed that Wilder’s usage of the psychedelic drug ayahuasca may have quelled his killer instinct in his last contest. “Deontay is a killer, he’s violent, he wants to put holes through you when he punches you, that Deontay didn’t show up that night, he couldn’t pull the trigger. But that’s not the fighter you’re going to see in his next fight,” Scott said. Wilder did taper off against Parker and ate several big right hands in the eighth round. Boxing Scene shared that he averaged 17 punches thrown per round, which were 19 less than his average heading into the bout. Without any substances to deter his mind frame, Wilder’s verve could return. He’s also looking to reach the top of the division again and Scott believes that all heavyweights should be on notice due to the work he’s put in behind the scenes. “Whoever we fight next has a big problem because Deontay is in a very vengeful space right now,” Scott proclaimed. “Deontay is already in shape, already sparring, already doing strength and conditioning. His chef is now on call 24/7. The right things are being done to get the best out of Deontay.” The 6-foot-7, 214-pound fighter will need to be in great shape against Zhang who outweighs him by 42 pounds. Wilder’s stance has also looked vulnerable in several of his last fights, so strength and conditioning on his lower body will be a major difference maker that could fuel his win. Scott affirms that the former Olympic bronze medalist will be ready for his best showing in June. “It’s going to be a surgical performance. What I really like about the fight is how dangerous Zhang is, a very dangerous opponent and that’s going to make Deontay even better.” Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are on a collision course to decide Fury’s lineal title. Should Wilder down Zhang, he could be in line to face Joshua afterward in a long overdue fight.

  • Deontay Wilder’s coach says Anthony Joshua change has given him “pure confidence” – Dexerto

Deontay Wilder’s coach says Anthony Joshua change has given him “pure confidence” Associated PressAnthony Joshua looked “good and strong” in his knockout win over Francis Ngannou and has rediscovered the “realm of pure confidence”. That was the glowing verdict of Deontay Wilder’s coach Malik Scott, who believes Joshua’s trainer Ben Davison has been key to his revival at the top of the heavyweight division. Joshua, a two-time world heavyweight champion, is in line for a shot at the winner of the undisputed world title fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk next month after a couple of impressive performances. And Scott has been very impressed with Joshua’s renaissance since suffering back-to-back defeats to Usyk. “I thought AJ looked good and strong, my favorite part was watching him work on a shot in the locker room and then coming right out and executing it,” Scott told Instant Casinos. “Ngannou had never experienced the AJ system before; very strong, very violent, very distant. Taking his time with you, letting you feel his presence and then taking out the trash. “He’s always been a threat at the top of the division but he’s really coming into the realm of pure confidence and I think Ben Davison has had a lot of influence over that.” The 34-year-old followed up a stoppage win over Otto Wallin with a destructive knockout win over Ngannou, in a fight that was originally slated to be against Wilder. On the same night Joshua beat Wallin, Wilder was stunned by Joseph Parker which scuppered any chance of the fight happening last month. Joshua and Wilder were simultaneously world heavyweight champions for years and, for whatever reason, a fight between them never materialized. Scott insists it is a fight Wilder still wants but acknowledges his fighter must get past hard hitting Chinese heavyweight Zhilei Zhang in his next fight if he is to harbor any hopes of finally sharing a ring with Joshua. “I’m sure Deontay still wants AJ but we’re in a place right now where we’re dealing with a high-level dangerous fight,” Scott added. “We need to deal with what’s in front of us, especially coming off our last performance. I don’t want his focus or desire anywhere but knocking Zhang out. “We really cannot afford anything else. Deontay is back vengeful. Against Joseph Parker the rounds went by and he wasn’t vengeful, he was in a place of contentment, a place of not being able to let the trigger go. “But now our back is against the wall, he knows what he needs to do. I think Zhang’s size, power and danger will bring the best out of Deontay.”

  • Deontay Wilder urged to retire after brutal knockout loss vs Zhilei Zhang – Dexerto

Deontay Wilder urged to retire after brutal knockout loss vs Zhilei Zhang X — ESPN RingsideFormer WBC champion Deontay Wilder entered his matchup vs Chinese heavyweight Zhilei Zhang looking to bounce back from losses in three of his previous four fights. In the lead-up to the Queensbury vs Matchroom 5 v 5 card, Wilder was brutally honest about his potential retirement if he lost to Zhang. “It’s going to be a different fight this time around. And if it’s not a different fight, retirement is highly considered,” Wilder told DAZN. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ called his match against Zhang a “must win.” Unfortunately for Wilder, things didn’t go as planned on June 1. After a slow start from both fighters, Zhang began finding a home in round three, setting up Wilder for a brutal knockout blow two rounds later. With Zhang connecting on a heavy right hand, his opponent stumbled away into the corner, with a follow-up punch sending Wilder to the canvas. The American narrowly answered a ten-count by the referee, but the fight was still called off as Wilder couldn’t clear the cobwebs in time, forcing the ref’s decision. Wilder explained pre-fight that his boxing future hinged largely on the result of his battle with Zhang. Now, fans are urging the 38-year-old to retire. “As a fight fan, I will cherish the exciting memories Deontay Wilder delivered in his fights,” one boxing fan said on X after the loss. “But in this brutal business, the ring renders many fighters as unrecognizable of their former self. And that’s what we see with Wilder. Time to retire a wealthy man.” Many shared that sentiment, including SI’s Chris Mannix, who chose to frame the defeat in a more positive light. Others bemoaned over the fact that a potential Wilder vs Joshua match might never happen. Alas, with retirement a distinct possibility, Wilder vs Joshua may go down as one of the most frustrating “what if” matches in boxing history. The sting of the loss is still fresh for Wilder, so expect the long-time veteran to let the dust settle before making any final decisions. But, if it is the end for Wilder, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ left boxing a better place than he found it.

  • Deontay Wilder says Anthony Joshua fight in London “turns me on” – Dexerto

Deontay Wilder says Anthony Joshua fight in London “turns me on” Associated PressDeontay Wilder has said that the thought of fighting Anthony Joshua in London “turns me on”, ahead of his upcoming bout with Zhilei Zhang on June 1. Wilder and Zhang go head-to-head as part of Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn’s ‘5 vs 5’ that sees five of Matchroom Boxing’s best fighters go up against five from Queensberry Promotions in what is set to be a sensational night of action in Saudi Arabia. The tournament, announced by Turki Alalshikh, could hand Wilder a second chance over a fight with Joshua, a door that many thought had been closed to him in December last year. AJ got the best of Otto Wallin in Saudi, yet Wilder, on the same card, was stunned by Joseph Parker, a result that halted any idea of a possible contest between the pair. Yet the American – who is also keen for a fourth Tyson Fury fight – has not ruled out the possibility of a UK showdown with Joshua should he get the job done against Zhang on Saturday. “F*** yeah, it turns me on,” he told Sportsbook Review regarding a London clash with AJ. “I’ve been in situations like that when I fought the gold medalist in Moscow. We were right there in the lion’s den. “You come out into an arena with nothing but Russians and you can feel the breath coming off their mouths ‘Russia, Russia, Russia’ and you can feel the wind off their breath reaching the spikes of your neck hair as you walk in knowing you have got nobody there to represent you. “You are behind enemy lines and you get a great adrenaline rush. That’s an amazing feeling, so I have no problem coming to London. “It would be amazing for me, but the only thing that would be different in coming to Russia than the UK is I actually have major fans in the UK, and I think they’re going to show up and represent me, even though I’m fighting their countryman.” “All these fights are beautiful to talk about, but I’ve got to handle business come June 1,” he continued. “But it has been a long time coming for that fight with AJ. It’s easy for them to talk about it right now because I already have a task I need to accomplish, but we’ll see what type of talk they have when I accomplish my task, then there will be no more hiding, no will be able to hide, no one will be able to be outspoken without any weight behind it. “When I do what I’ve got to do, then you’ve got to be a man of your word and do what you said you’re going to do.” Will Deontay Wilder retire? Wilder has said that he is “highly considering” retiring depending on the outcome of his fight with Zhang. Speaking to DAZN, the Bronze Bomber said: “It’s going to be a different fight this time around, and if it’s not a different fight, retirement is highly considered.” When asked if the fight is a “must-win”, the American responded: “Yeah, I think so, and I like that pressure because when you’re under pressure, it brings the best out of you. If you really want it.” Topic starts at 08:44 For all the biggest results and upcoming fights this year, check out Dexerto’s 2024 boxing schedule.

  • Deontay Wilder calls for fourth Tyson Fury fight to make Gypsy King “pay” – Dexerto

Deontay Wilder calls for fourth Tyson Fury fight to make Gypsy King “pay” Associated PressDeontay Wilder has called for a fourth fight with Tyson Fury in order to make him “pay”, years after the pair fought for a third time. Both Fury and Wilder hit the canvas the last time they stepped into a ring together in 2021, but it was ‘The Gypsy King’ that walked away victorious, after he caught the ‘Bronze Bomber’ with a vicious right hook in the 11th round. Following a split decision draw and TKO win for Fury in their first and second fights respectively, the trilogy ended as one of the best the sport has ever seen. But Wilder has admitted that he would like another crack at Fury, insisting that the pair are not finished just yet. “I want to make Tyson Fury pay so bad, so bad,” he told Sportsbook Review “I don’t think that chapter is over with. I could see a fourth fight. I could see a fourth in the making, created by the creators. “The Saudis have the source and the power to make it all happen. I want to get it back so bad.” Fury, however, has closed the door on another contest with Wilder, after he categorically ruled out a fourth bout following their third fight in Las Vegas nearly three years ago. “It was a great trilogy and you need a good dance partner for trilogies,” Fury said after the fight. “Wilder has been a good dance partner, but there’s no rematch clause, it’s actually done. Wilder is done. There is no more Deontay Wilder.” Turning his attention to Fury’s upcoming fight with Usyk – which has been shrouded in controversy already – Wilder believes that the contest could go either way. “I really don’t know, I’m on the fence,” he said. “I honestly do not know because although Usyk is smaller, he will manoeuvre around. “Usyk still has the power and speed to do certain things. You can’t count Usyk out just because Fury’s so tall. I hope they handle business, put in a great show and leave the ring with good health. I have no dog in the fight.” For all the biggest results and upcoming fights this year, check out Dexerto’s 2024 boxing schedule.

  • Deontay Wilder boxing record: Zhilei Zhang could be “last dance” for former champ – Dexerto

Deontay Wilder boxing record: Zhilei Zhang could be “last dance” for former champ Associated PressDeontay Wilder has said that his upcoming fight with Zhilei Zhang on June 1 could be his “last dance” in what is set to be an explosive contest between the heavyweight pair. Ahead of the bout, we’ve taken a look at the Bronze Bomber’s boxing record in full and some of his biggest fights so far. Wilder, 38, comes into his fight against 40-year-old Zhang off the back of a unanimous decision defeat to Joseph Parker back in December 2023. The American has said that he is viewing the bout as “my last dance, my last chance,” against an opponent that boasts huge power punching at his disposal. However, when it comes to power, not many hit harder than Wilder, with fans eagerly expecting another highlight-reel knockout from either opponent. Ahead of the fight, here is Wilder’s overall record in the sport and the bouts that have helped him rise up the ranks. Deontay Wilder boxing record Overall, Wilder’s boxing record stands at 43-3-1: 43 wins, three defeats and one draw across his 47-fight career spanning just shy of 16 years. The heavyweight has a remarkable knockout record, securing 42 of his 43 victories by KO – with only one fight going in his favor that need to be decided by the judges. All three of his professional defeats have come in his last four fights, with Wilder no doubt eager to remind the world of his skill within the ring before calling time on his boxing career – a CV that includes one of the best trilogies the sport has ever seen. Bermane Stiverne, 2015 With the WBC world heavyweight title on the line, Wilder, 32-0 at the time, came up against Bermane Stiverne. Having garnered a reputation as a fearsome knockout artist, there was yet to be a single fight that the Bronze Bomber had not won by way of KO or TKO, such was the power in his right hand. Yet if you look down Wilder’s record in full, there is only one fight that he needed the judges to secure victory – enter Stiverne. However, this was by no means a close fight. One look at the judges’ scorecards (118-109, 119-108 and 120-107 all in favor of Wilder) tells you all you need to know. And when the pair met again for the second time in 2017, it took just one round for Wilder to leave Stiverne flat on the canvas. Luis Ortiz, 2018 The fight that could have been so different. Wilder had to fight back from the brink of defeat to defend his WBC heavyweight title against Luis Ortiz at the Barclays Center, New York, on March 3, 2018. The fight was a battle of recovery from both men as the Cuban challenger hit the canvas for the first time in his professional career in the fifth round following a brutal right to the forehead from Wilder. Yet as the seventh began, Wilder was in trouble. A countering right followed by a big left hook from Ortiz rocked the American, who somehow stayed on his feet, somehow able to make it back to his corner as the round mercifully came to a close. The Bronze Bomber would have the last laugh though as he started to turn the screw on Ortiz who was slowly running out of gas. Wilder dropped him twice in the 10th as the referee was forced to step in. Tyson Fury 1, 2018 The first of what proved to be an epic trilogy saw Wilder take on Tyson Fury in Los Angeles on December 1, 2018. The bout was enthralling from start to finish as Wilder floored Fury in the 12th, leaving the Gypsy King motionless on the canvas. Yet Tyson’s powers of recovery saw him, somehow, beat the count as it got to nine, rising to his feet and managing to survive for the rest of the round. After a strong showing in the middle rounds, Fury had been touted by many to win the fight if he had managed to get through the final round unscathed. Yet the knockdown saw the fight end as a split decision draw on the scorecards. The contest was an epic in the heavyweight scene and proved the division was well and truly alive. But rest assured, fans would be in more more of the same from the heavyweight duo in due course. Dominic Breazeale, 2019 When people talk about fighters ‘coming out swinging’, this was the perfect example of that. There had been bad blood between Wilder and Breazeale after a scuffle back in a hotel in 2017 that led to the latter claiming the Bronze Bomber’s brother punched him in front of his wife and kids. So if you thought there would be a measured start to the fight, think again. Breazeale rocked Wilder with a huge shot that left the American unsteady on his feet. However, one sickening right hand from the WBC champ left Breazeale sprawled on the canvas after just 140 seconds. The fight was all over inside the first round as, if anything, it proved to the world how well Fury did to recover in their last fight given the strength within that right hand. Luis Ortiz 2, 2019 A rematch that Wilder had to win if he wanted another shot at Fury. Yet after six rounds, fans were starting succumb to the fact that Ortiz was going to stop those plans in their tracks. The American was down on all of the scorecards and needed something special to get the win. By this point, if you are doubting Wilder’s punching power, then look no further than November 23, 2019, MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas – round seven. Yet again, it was a vicious right-hand that connected with Ortiz, sending him down to the canvas and unable to beat the count. It was a brutal ending and one that made sure a rematch with Fury would be just a matter of months away… Tyson Fury 2, 2020 Having battled to a split-decision draw in their first fight back in 2018 – a contest that many believe Fury should have won – The Gypsy King made sure there was no doubt come the rematch. The 31-year-old floored Wilder in the third and fifth rounds before the Bronze Bomber’s team threw in the towel in during the seventh. Fury dominated from the start and never took a backwards step, dictating the tempo and forcing the American onto the ropes at will. It was a boxing masterclass from Fury who made light work of one of the deadliest punchers in the division. Tyson Fury 3, 2021 Every story deserves a good ending and boy did fans get what they had hoped for when the pair met for the third and final time. A year and eight months after their last bout, Fury and Wilder produced another fight for the ages in front of an electric Las Vegas crowd. An upset appeared to be on the cards when Wilder sent Fury to the canvas, not once, but twice, in the fourth round, as the Bronze Bomber’s fabled right hand reminded his opponent of the power he carried. Yet, as Fury said after the fight, “When the chips are down, I can always deliver.” The Gypsy King did just that as he roared back into the fight and eventually had Wilder hanging on before being knocked down in the 10th, getting the job done in the 11th with a booming right hand of his own that brought the fight to a close. Wilder has since called for a fourth contest with Fury, but that chapter appears to be well and truly closed. Joseph Parker, 2023 Wilder’s latest fight brings us to Joseph Parker in December 2023 in Saudi Arabia. It is only the second time that he has fought outside of the United States. The American was the clear favorite heading into the bout in what proved to be a very one-sided affair. But sadly, for Wilder, he was not the one who dominated proceedings. Parker was calmness personified as he fought his was to a unanimous decision victory over Wilder. The New Zealander’s control was reflected on the scorecards, with the three judges making the margin of victory as 118-111, 118-110 and 120-108 respectively. This was supposed to be Wilder’s stepping stone to a fight with Anthony Joshua, but instead it has now left him looking to show the world he is not beyond his prime when he takes on Zhang, once again in Riyadh, on June 1. Will Deontay Wilder retire?

  • David Benavidez makes Saudi plea as he tries to force Canelo Alvarez fight – Dexerto

David Benavidez makes Saudi plea as he tries to force Canelo Alvarez fight Associated PressSuper-middleweight contender David Benavidez has pleaded with Saudi boxing promoter Turki Alalshikh to finally land a shot at undisputed world champion Canelo Alvarez. Alvarez holds all four world title belts in the 168 pounds division but Benavidez, who is the WBC interim world champion, is considered the number one contender in the division. The 27-year-old has twice been a WBC super-middleweight world champion and has beaten previous world champions David Lemieux, Caleb Plant and Demetrius Andrade in his last three fights. The pressure is growing from the boxing public for Canelo to give Benavidez, who is unbeaten in 28 fights, his shot, but the four-weight world champion has so far remained unmoved. The 33-year-old has been slammed this week for claiming it would take $150-200 million dollars before he’d consider fighting Benavidez as he “brings nothing to the table”. That hasn’t stopped Benavidez from calling out the Mexican, though, and after being unsuccessful in securing the fight under the Premier Boxing Champions promotional banner, Benavidez has now looked elsewhere in his bid to land the bout. Saudi Arabian promoter Turki Alalshikh, has managed to promote some of the biggest heavyweight boxing fights this decade across in Saudi Arabia over the last year. The lucrative paydays he has put in front of fighters has managed to secure two undisputed world title fights later this year, as Tyson Fury takes on Oleksandr Usyk for the heavyweight titles and Artur Beterbiev faces Dmitry Bivol for the light-heavyweight straps. And Benavidez has pleaded with Alalshikh to put up the money for Canelo to defend his undisputed super-middleweight world titles in Saudi Arabia against him in the “biggest Mexican-American fight in boxing history. “Let’s bring the biggest and most exciting fight to Saudi Arabia,” Benavidez said on Instagram, addressing Alalshikh. “This will be the biggest Mexican vs Mexican-American fight in the history of boxing, and what better place to do it than the Kingdom, for the entire world to see? “This fight is for pride and glory. I fight for greatness, not money. If I do not beat Canelo, I will donate my entire purse to any kids charity of your liking. “When I do beat Canelo, I will be donating a huge amount of that purse to benefit child hunger across the world. I’m a champion of the people and will continue to fight the best! I stand by my words!” Canelo will defend his world titles against unbeaten former super-welterweight world champion Jaime Munguia on May 4. He will likely fight again in September and Benavidez will continue to push to be his next opponent.

  • Darren Till promises to “end influencer boxing” after Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson event – Dexerto

Darren Till promises to “end influencer boxing” after Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson event Associated PressFormer UFC star Darren Till has never been one to mince words, and the mixed-martial-artists-turned-boxer proved it by sending some fiery words at his next opponent. Till will make his professional boxing debut in front of a worldwide audience during the highly-anticipated Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson Netflix fight card. The Liverpool, England, native will challenge Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., a former WBC world middleweight champion and the son of former three-division champion Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. Till told The MMA Hour that the idea of fighting on the July 20 card was sprung upon him out of nowhere but that it was an easy decision to say yes. “The fight is one of the biggest of our generation,” the 30-year-old told Ariel Helwani. “You’ve got Jake Paul, who is a huge, massive star. And you’ve got one of the best fighters to ever live, Mike Tyson. “They literally just approached me with the fight, and in my eyes, the exposure this event is going to bring to any fighter, I think, as a fighter, you can’t turn an opportunity like this down.” However, the kind words toward Paul ended quickly as the interview continued, and Helwani asked about Till’s ambitions in the boxing world. “I’m going to knock [Chavez Jr.] flat out in two rounds. I’m going to knock that man out in two rounds. “Then I’m going to fight Jake Paul after it. And if Jake Paul’s not available, I’ll fight [Mike] Perry. I’ll fight anyone. Dillon Danis wants to fight me, so let’s go, Dillon. “I’m going to bring influencer boxing to an end as soon as I knock Julio Cesar Chavez out. I am going to bring it all to an end. I’m going to knock every single one of them out.” Till’s last competitive fight came at UFC 282 against current middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis, which saw the South African win via a brutal neck crank. As for Chavez Jr., he’s fought in 61 professional boxing bouts in his two-decade-long career. But his last match was nearly three years ago in December 2021, and he has lost three of his last six fights since losing to Canelo Alvarez in 2017. Till’s fight against Chavez Jr. is quite the test right out of the gate, as the former UFC title contender will face a formidable foe — and he’s well aware of it. “He’s an ex-world champion. His dad’s a living legend. So, it would be very wrong of me to disrespect him. “But as I said, I’m not coming to f*****g make the numbers up in July. I’m coming to put on a show for everyone involved.” It’ll be a chance for Chavez Jr. to add another victory to his 53-6-2 career boxing record, while Till will attempt to start his foray into a new sport with a statement win. In that event, Paul must keep his eye out. Till’s promise to bring influencer boxing to an end gains credence with a victory over a former world champion. • Dana White explains why Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson isn’t a “serious” fight – Dexerto

Dana White explains why Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson isn’t a “serious” fight Instagram/JakePaul/MikeTysonUFC President Dana White doesn’t think Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson is a very “serious” fight for one big reason. During an appearance on Pound 4 Pound with Kamura Usman, White chimed in about Paul’s next bout against Mike Tyson scheduled for July 20 in Netflix’s first-ever live boxing event. According to Dana, Jake Paul’s reason for fighting ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson all comes down to the money, since Tyson is serving as a draw to get eyeballs on the boxing match. “I love Mike, and I hate talking about him because he always get mad at me when I talk about this stuff, but when the fight happens he’ll be 58-years-old. There will be a 31 year age difference,” White explained. The UFC President further noted that when Paul did fight someone his age, he ended up being handed the only loss of his career via split decision to Tommy Fury. (Segment begins at 41:50) “If he beats Mike Tyson, he’s gonna fight Clint Eastwood next,” White joked. “Clint Eastwood’s 93-years-old.” Usman went on to try to argue that fighters “always have a round left,” but noted that Jake Paul isn’t doing his best to be taken seriously as a fighter. White was quick to interrupt, claiming that ‘The Problem Child’ doesn’t have a desire to do so. “He doesn’t [want to be taken seriously]. What Jake wants is Jake wants to make money. The people that follow Jake Paul don’t buy Jake Paul’s fights so Jake Paul has to fight people who can actually sell pay-per-views,” he added. Jake Paul and Dana White are no strangers to each other, with the influencer frequently feuding with UFC boss over his demands for increased fighter pay. So far, Paul has yet to respond to Dana’s criticisms, but it’s unlikely that the influencer will remain silent on his concerns.

  • Dana White bites back at Jake Paul’s callout of UFC champ – Dexerto

Dana White bites back at Jake Paul’s callout of UFC champ YouTube: Impaulsive/TNT SportsUFC boss Dana White has given his take on Jake Paul’s recent call out of Light Heavyweight champion Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira following his win over Mike Perry. Since getting into the world of boxing, Jake Paul has tested himself against some pretty big names in the fight game. The majority of those have been MMA fighters – many who have left the UFC – rather than lifelong boxers, however. As a result, the YouTuber-turned-boxer has got himself on the radar of UFC boss Dana White. The pair have had some pretty strong verbal, and digital, jabs so far, with Jake constantly asking White to bump up fighter pay and provide more benefits. In the midst of that, Jake has also gone after some fighters who are still active in the UFC. That includes Conor McGregor and, most recently, Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira. Now, Dana has hit back at Jake and the call out of his Light Heavyweight champion. “The media just eats up all of his bulls*it,” the UFC boss told TNT Sports, debunking claims that he told Mike Perry he’d get back in the UFC if he’d won. “I didn’t even know Jake was fighting. I was on vacation in Italy. I stopped paying attention to Jake Paul when he lost to [Tommy] Fury. When he fought somebody that was his age and actually boxed, he lost. And I’m not s*itting on the kid. I don’t even think about him anymore, it doesn’t even cross my mind.” Timestamp of 5:38 White added that he “has no beef” with Jake these days but repeated that its “all bull*hit” when it comes to his fights and how he goes about things. Other pundits have pointed out that Dana is reluctant to let active UFC fighters step away from the Octagon and focus on boxing, so Jake will have to rethink his plans.

  • Cristiano Ronaldo & Neymar amongst stars at Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk – Dexerto

Cristiano Ronaldo & Neymar amongst stars at Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk X — Sky Sports Boxing, B/R FootballThe super fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will crown the century’s first undisputed heavyweight boxing champion. It is a battle between two of the best boxers of their generation as Fury looks to improve his sparkling 34-0-1 record while showing he’s still at the top of his game. Likewise, Usyk, in his typical stoic approach, has been all about business in the build-up to the fight. He promises to put the 6-foot-9 Fury down early and remain undefeated in his boxing career. Billed as the biggest combat sporting event in recent memory, it’s no surprise that many high-profile celebrities made their way to Saudi Arabia to watch the match live. Cristiano Ronaldo, a Saudi-based Al Nassr football club member, arrived at Kingdom Arena with much fanfare, as the paparazzi snapped photos while entering the building. The former Manchester United star even took time to troll Arsenal fan Frank Warren at the event, telling Warren, “They [Arsenal] are not going to win the Premier League.” Later, Ronaldo found his front-row seat directly beside boxing star Anthony Joshua. The 28-3 Joshua was all smiles in the lead-up to the main event as he and Cristiano chopped it up ringside. Joshua expects to fight the winner of Fury and Usyk. However, it likely won’t come until 2025 after Frank Warren mentioned that a rematch between the two fighters is already on the schedule — regardless of the winner on May 18. Ronaldo was far from the only superstar footballer in attendance, as Neymar Jr., another member of the Saudi Pro League, stepped out to the star-studded event. On his way into the arena, a reporter asked Neymar who he was backing in tonight’s featured fight. “Tyson Fury, but of course, it is a great fight.” After getting through the crowd of photographers, the midfielder met up with Ronaldo. The two appeared friendly and even dapped each other up before parting ways. The crowd has been full of energy since the first fight of the prelims, and that intensity will surely ramp up even more as Fury and Usyk make their walks to the ring for the title unification bout.

  • Conor McGregor warns fighters about copying Jake Paul – Dexerto

Conor McGregor warns fighters about copying Jake Paul YouTube: Jake Paul/Instagram: Conor McGregorUFC superstar Conor McGregor has warned fighters about following in the footsteps of Jake Paul, claiming it is “hollow” and that they should be aspiring for more. Since stepping into the world of boxing, Jake Paul has had plenty of detractors who have shot down his successes and tried to engage him in a war of words. Despite the fact he’s a UFC fighter, Conor McGregor has been right up there. McGregor had, initially, been unwilling to engage in Jake’s trash talk but his stance has softened over time. He labeled the ‘Problem Child’ and his brother Logan as “dingbats” before going directly at Jake at different times. Now, the Irishman has warned fighters about wanting to follow Jake’s path and becoming a “YouTube fighter,” urging them to “aspire” to more. “For me, it does set a bad precedent in the industry because what you’ve got now is — and I would say this to the young athletes coming up, men and women: Don’t aspire to be one of these YouTuber fighters,” McGregor told James Corden on the This Life Of Mine show. “Aspire for world titles. That is how you etch your name in history.” The Irish fighting star said you “may get a few likes” but there is “nothing substantial” to them. “It’s hollow. It can be profitable, but it’s hollow. And I’m noticing a trend in young fighters coming up that are not even interested in competing in the amateur scene or rising up to win a national title. You need the gold on the waist. You need to etch your name on the belt.” Even though he’s gearing up to fight Mike Tyson in July, it wouldn’t be a shock to see Jake clap back at McGregor at some point. It’s something he hasn’t been afraid of in the past and he’d no doubt love to add a win over McGrgeor to his pro record – if they could make that happen.

  • Conor McGregor offers creative solution to the Canelo and De La Hoya beef – Dexerto

Conor McGregor offers creative solution to the Canelo and De La Hoya beef Associated PressBoxing legend and famous promoter Oscar De La Hoya had a recent run-in with world champion fighter Canelo Alvarez and UFC star Conor McGregor took notice. On May 4, Canelo Alvarez will defend his unified super middleweight title against Jaime Munguia, an undefeated boxer under the Golden Boy promotion. In the lead-up to the championship bout, Alvarez, a former member of Golden Boy himself, had some disparaging remarks about the promotion’s founder — Oscar De La Hoya. The two had a nasty falling out when Alvarez was released from his deal in 2020 and subsequently sued De La Hoya’s organization for wrongful termination of his contract. It’s clear the animosity is still strong between the two, as they came to blows during a May 1 press conference after De La Hoya threw shade at Canelo. As expected, the reigning champion didn’t let those remarks go unanswered. Canelo got in De La Hoya’s face, but the two men were separated before physicality ensued. Although De La Hoya’s fighting days are firmly in the rearview, UFC superstar Conor McGregor proposed a creative solution to settle the beef between these two boxing legends. McGregor, who recently purchased an ownership stake in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, wants to see Canelo and De La Hoya throw hands in the upstart promotion. On X, McGregor quoted a clip of their altercation and threw down the challenge. “I’d love [to see] these two go at it! Take off the gloves and fight, b****!” While it’s unlikely the 51-year-old De La Hoya ever fights again, let alone a boxing champion still in his prime, the idea is interesting on the surface. A dream match between Canelo and his former boxing mentor would sell tickets, and adding in the bare-knuckle aspect would be enough to convince even casual combat sports fans to tune in. Alas, the 18-year age gap makes the chances of a fight actually happening minuscule. De La Hoya hasn’t fought professionally since his 2008 loss to Manny Pacquiao. Furthermore, there’s no indication that Canelo would ever want to fight bare-knuckled, even against someone he knowingly despises. It’s nothing more than a fun thought, but in his trademark fashion, McGregor believes it’s the perfect way to bury the hatchet between Canelo and De La Hoya.

Conor McGregor gives brutally honest opinion on Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson boxing match The UFC’s ‘double champ’ Conor McGregor has weighed in on Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson’s boxing match with his brutally honest opinion. YouTube star turned professional boxer Jake Paul stunned the world once again on March 7, announcing to the world he’d be going blow-for-blow with one of history’s greatest boxers Mike Tyson. The two are set to step into the ring on July 20, on Netflix’s first-ever live boxing event. However, the shocking announcement hasn’t come without its fair share of backlash, mainly concerning Tyson’s health. Once regarded as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time, many consider the 57-year-old to be far beyond the age where he should be stepping into the boxing ring. Conor McGregor weighs in on “strange” Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight Conor McGregor has now given his thoughts on the bout. Much like others, the ‘Notorious’ is a bit taken aback by the announcement, with him explaining in an interview on March 9 he thinks it’s “strange.” “Oh jeez, it’s a bit strange,” he said. “The interest is low on it, I don’t know. I don’t really understand it.” Furthermore, he stated he “wishes well” for the legendary boxer in the upcoming Netflix bout. ‘The Problem Child’ has attempted to reassure fans that while “the Baddest Man on the Planet” may be past his prime, his power still lives in his right hand. Regardless, it’s clear many want to see the YouTube star “humbled” by the nearly 60-year-old fighter, who holds an impressive 50-6 record in his boxing career, compared to Paul’s 9-1 professional record.

Conor McGregor calls out “juiced” Jake Paul and tells Mike Perry “You’re fired” Instagram: thenotoriousmma / YouTube: Jake PaulConor McGregor called out Jake Paul following his fight with Mike Perry on July 20, 2024, labeling the former the “biggest p*ssbag I have ever seen in my life.” The bout, which took place at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, saw Paul secure victory in the sixth round with a knockout. McGregor took to X/Twitter after the fight to blast Paul. “40-pound weight difference, juiced out of his head, and still sh*tting himself in there,” the former lightweight and featherweight UFC champion said. Continuing, the MMA fighter suggested that Paul’s business advisor, Nakisa Bidarian “should take him to Vegas,” adding “Oh that’s right you could never, the athletic commission testing, real testing, real fighting. B*tch asses. You could never.” McGregor then took the opportunity to defend Mike Tyson, who Paul had originally been scheduled to fight in July. “Calling out 60-year-old Mike Tyson fresh off an in-flight medical emergency? I swear to God, a fat can of b*tch p*ss.” Tyson, 58, pulled out of the fixture in May due to an “ulcer flare-up”. Paul wasn’t the only subject of McGregor’s scathing remarks. In a follow-up post, the latter chided Mike Perry. “Hey Mike you’re released and you can go and compete in your smelly, dirty boxing championship thing,” he said, signing off with “You’re fired.” Jake Paul’s boxing record now sits at 10-1 after his victory over Perry. Seven of his victories have been by KO. The delayed clash between himself and Mike Tyson has been rescheduled to take place on Friday, November 15 at AT&T Stadium. The match will be streamed on Netflix. For the full results of Paul and Perry’s face-off, including highlights, round breakdown, and more, check out our summary of the match.

  • Conor Benn lifts lid on Gervonta Davis fight talks as Oscar De La Hoya raises concerns – Dexerto

Conor Benn lifts lid on Gervonta Davis fight talks as Oscar De La Hoya raises concerns DAZNConor Benn claims a ‘serious offer’ has been made to Gervonta Davis as social media trash talk between the pair continues. Benn recorded an unconvincing points victory over Peter Dobson in Las Vegas earlier this month and talk of a follow-up bout with Davis has gathered pace in recent days. Eddie Hearn has sent an official offer to Davis and Benn claims it would see ‘Tank’ earn between $10million and $15million depending on sales. ‘Let’s see if he’s all talk’ “I know a serious offer’s been made, let’s see if he’s all talk,” Benn said. “The talking’s done. Don’t pipe up and start running your mouth on Twitter and then not sign the contract. “If I’m easy work then no problem, sign the contract. Do I think that fight gets made? Listen, I’ll agree to fight anyone. “If $10million, $11million, $12million, $13million, $14million, $15million ain’t enough, then stay quiet, stay at your house with your little tag on your ankle. “It’s cool, run your mouth on Twitter, I’m not really that guy for social media and all that. But if you want to run your mouth then I’ll fight you no problem. “You’re telling me $10million to $15million ain’t enough to fight me? If that ain’t enough, then keep doing what you’re doing.” Meanwhile, boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya raised concerns over the natural weight difference between the two fighters, with the pair separated by two weight classes. De La Hoya said: “Isn’t Conor Benn [up at] 147lbs and fought at 154lbs? And Gervonta is 135/140lbs? Guys, there are weight-classes for a reason. Look, Gervonta Davis is the better fighter, he is the better fighter but Conor Benn is good too. “When you have a bigger good guy against a littler good guy, the bigger guy is always going to win, it is in the history of the sport. “I don’t know how talented Conor Benn is, I haven’t paid too much attention to him, all I kept hearing is that his punching power is gone for some reason.”

  • Concussion expert outlines worry for Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul as Deontay Wilder weighs in – Dexerto

Concussion expert outlines worry for Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul as Deontay Wilder weighs in Associated PressConcerns about Mike Tyson’s health arose immediately following the announcement of his boxing match against Jake Paul, with many citing the 30-year age gap as worrisome. Nathan Howarth, Development and Operations Director at Concussion Legacy Foundation UK, spoke to Betway recently and shared his concerns about Tyson’s return to the ring. “Boxing has an inherent risk of concussion, and then there’s an increased risk of traumatic brain injury we have seen like bleeds on the brain. “I’m not saying that there is any evidence that as an older fighter, Mike [Tyson] would be at risk of that. However, we do know the impact of subclinical concussions. “We know your exposure to head impacts increases your risk of things like Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE).” CTE is a brain disease that medical professionals are working harder to understand better. It’s become prevalent in NFL athletes after they retire from the sport, which led to increased safety precautions toward concussions. But it’s Tyson’s age that worries Howarth the most in regards to potentially severe brain injuries. “There’s no definitive [idea] of what the risks would be, but as someone who is 57, there’s clearly going to be a risk of potentially having more of an impact on someone who’s older. “People who participate in boxing need to be aware of the potential risks, and for somebody who is almost 60, you can’t imagine it will have a positive impact on his brain. We know that the brain’s ability to recover seems to decrease as you get older.” If word from Howarth, the concussion specialist, isn’t enough, boxing legend Deontay Wilder shared his thoughts on the Tyson fight by calling out the boxing commission. “I think it’s bad that the commission has licensed Mike Tyson because he hasn’t been active in 20 years,” Wilder told Sportsbook Review. “People can get hit in the wrong place and at the wrong time; there’s lots of examples where guys have been hit into a coma. “He’s too old for this. At the end of the day, no one gives a f*** about Mike. I don’t think anyone cares about Mike because they wouldn’t sanction this fight if they did. Wilder also says that seeing a former boxing world champion lose to a YouTuber would stain Tyson’s legacy amongst the boxing community. “I don’t want to see one of my legends fight a YouTuber,” Wilder added. “If he goes in there, and he knocks Mike out, that’s going to tarnish the reputation of Mike. “I don’t want the last thing I remember of him is getting knocked out by a YouTuber. The last thing you do, that’s what people remember you by.” According to Howarth, Tyson is risking serious brain damage by fighting at such an advanced age. Both Howarth and Wilder have clear worries about Tyson’s well-being as the July 20 boxing match vs Jake Paul draws nearer.

  • “Clown” John Fury slammed by ex-world champ after clash with Oleksandr Usyk camp – Dexerto

“Clown” John Fury slammed by ex-world champ after clash with Oleksandr Usyk camp Associated Press/IFL/XTyson Fury’s father, John Fury, has been labeled a “clown” by former world boxing champion Carl Froch for his behavior in the build-up to his son’s undisputed world heavyweight title clash with Oleksandr Usyk. Fury Sr hit the headlines for the wrong reasons on Monday after he headbutted a member of Usyk’s camp while the two fighters began their media duties ahead of Saturday’s fight. The row was caught on camera and it showed Fury’s father being held back by security as blood poured down his face from a cut that opened on his forehead following the altercation. The incident left fellow Brit, Froch, who was a three-time world super-middleweight champion, deeply unimpressed, suggesting he is on the “same level of clownage” as YouTube star turned boxer Jake Paul. “He [John Fury] has overstepped the mark! We’re having a go at John Fury now, though,” Froch told Online Slots. “He was having a go at me before. He called me out and said he’ll give me a kick up the a*** and give me a slap. And that he would take me in a fight. He literally made a public offer down the phone that he’ll fight me at Wembley stadium. “I paid him a bit of lip service because I’m not going to sit back and just let somebody trash talk me without giving a response. “It’s a bit cringey the stuff he says. A lot of it is a bit close to the bone as well. It’s borderline absurd and crude. I think: ‘Come on, John, think about what you’re going to say before you say it.’ “The fighting man that doesn’t fight has caused trouble, I’m not surprised, he’s been told to pipe down and keep out of the way on the build up to this. “He’s been told, pipe down, keep your mouth shut, and stay out of the way of the promotion. This is serious business boxing. And he’s a clown sometimes. He’s on Jake Paul’s level with the clownage.” To keep up to date with all of the latest boxing fights and results, follow our 2024 boxing schedule.

  • Chris Eubank Sr names Canelo as Eubank Jr’s ‘saving grace’ amid brutal Conor Benn verdict – Dexerto

Chris Eubank Sr names Canelo as Eubank Jr’s ‘saving grace’ amid brutal Conor Benn verdict TalkSPORT/FacebookChris Eubank Jr must fight undisputed super-middleweight world champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in his next fight to ‘redeem any type of respect from the fighting public’. That is is the damning verdict of his father Chris Eubank Sr, who insists he won’t allow his son to fight at middleweight (160lbs) again. Eubank Jr avenged a shock stoppage loss to Liam Smith Jr by stopping the former light-middleweight world champion in September. The 34-year-old is highly ranked at middleweight with both the WBO and WBC meaning he is in line for a shot at their respective world champions Janibek Alimkhanuly and Jermall Charlo. Talk of a fight with Conor Benn also won’t go away but Eubank Sr insists his son’s future lies at super-middleweight (168lbs) and believes a fight with Canelo will be the only way for Eubank Jr, who is yet to win a world title with the four recognised governing bodies, to secure his legacy. “That fight [Eubank Jr vs Benn], I mean they’re still talking about it,” Eubank Sr said on talkSPORT. “But it doesn’t make sense how they would put so much energy into producing another fight, knowing that I said it’s not going to happen. “And the reason it’s not going to happen – my son is now walking around at 13st 5lbs, that’s 187lbs. So for him to lose 27lbs to get down to middleweight, this is a man’s life, he will never get down to that weight again, ever. Topic starts at 00:30 “Let’s get to the point, Canelo is the only person he’s going to be able to fight now to redeem any type of respect from the fighting public. “Real fighters, real boxing people. I know how you win respect, it’s not beating a Liam Smith. Junior this is what my view is – your saving grace is going to be Canelo. “You’re never going to get back down to 160lbs, I won’t allow that to happen anyway. You’re a 168lbs fighter, Canelo is your way to win respect and you cannot beat him, not Canelo. “The only way you can beat him is if daddy is next to you. That’s it. Period.” Eubank Sr’s brutal Conor Benn verdict Eubank Sr also criticised Benn calling out welterweight world champion Terence Crawford and feels he would be better suited fighting his nephew, Harlem Eubank. “He’s talking about the top fighters in the world, talking about Terence Crawford,” Eubank Sr added. “How are you talking like that? What have you done? “Whoever wins Conor Benn vs Harlem Eubank goes and conquers the world. He’s not doing anything, he’s in no-man’s land. And now he’s fighting a guy called Peter Dobson, who is this guy? “Back in the day they used a term – ‘They dug him up and he’s still warm’ – that’s the type of fighter he’s fighting.”

Chaos erupts as John Fury headbutts member of Oleksandr Usyk camp before fight IFLTVTyson Fury’s father, John Fury, was left with blood on his face after he headbutted a member of Oleksandr Usyk’s team in the build up to the undisputed world heavyweight title fight in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, May 18. Fight week for Fury vs Usyk has begun in controversial style after a heated exchange between members of Fury and Usyk’s camps ended in violence. A row in a hotel lobby was caught on camera as John, 59, and a member of Usyk’s team were engaged in a heated conversation that culminated in Fury’s father throwing a headbutt. He was then held back by security as blood poured down his face from a cut that opened on his forehead following the altercation. Chants of “Usyk, Usyk, Usyk” erupted as John was then led away from the scene. Fury, who was in a separate room at the time, later emerged and asked what happened to his father’s head. John then turned to the crowd and said, “The greatest show on earth has begun. Enjoy. This is what it’s about. Enjoy the entertainment, this is it,” before then launching his own rendition of “Fury, Fury, Fury” chants. All the eyes of the boxing world are on Fury and Usyk ahead of their fight at the Kingdom Arena, Saudi Arabia, this weekend. • Chaos breaks out during Salt Papi and Ferrari’s Misfits X Series 14 weigh-in – Dexerto

Chaos breaks out during Salt Papi and Ferrari’s Misfits X Series 14 weigh-in YouTube: Misfits BoxingNathaniel Bustamante, better known as Salt Papi, will fight former Fame MMA star Amadeusz Ferrari Roślik at Misfits X Series 14. But first, the two men came face-to-face at the May 10 weigh-in ahead of their main event bout on Saturday night in front of a packed house in London, England. Ferrari was the first to weigh-in, walking to the stage with a menacing stare. He looked chiseled from stone while flexing on the scale as he hit the 171-pound threshold. The Polish fighter’s intense presence permeated through the crowd, as the patrons began talking trash to Ferrari before Salt Papi made his way to the action. The world-famous TikToker, with over five million followers, was showered with thunderous cheers and comments in support of the rising English-Filipino boxer. Salt Papi looked composed and confident stepping onto the scale, although he weighed three pounds lighter than his opponent at 168 pounds. Then, all hell broke loose. Salt Papi and Ferrari approached one another for the pre-fight stare down, with both fighters locking eyes. Anthony Taylor, a fellow boxer that accompanied Salt Papi on stage said, “Knock him out, Salt. Knock him out!” He even called Ferrari “polish sausage” multiple times. Ferrari immediately barked back, “Shut your f****** mouth,” which led to Taylor shouting back, “You’re not a killer.” After that, Ferrari had enough with words and swung his left hand at Taylor, seemingly landing a slap to the face as it echoed through the microphones. The chippiness didn’t stop there. Expletives were tossed around at will and Taylor even brought up Ferrari’s family during the scrum. Members of the crowd started chiming in, getting Ferrari more fired up with each insult hurled his way. His team had to hold him back to prevent further escalation. Once the smoke cleared, Ferrari was interviewed and he said, “I love that f****** sh*t! Give me more adrenaline!” May 11 marks Ferrari’s first professional boxing bout after a lengthy MMA career featuring 11 fights. If the weigh-in is any indication, Salt Papi should expect fireworks early and often.

  • Canelo Alvarez slammed over next opponent as fans make Ryan Garcia point – Dexerto

Canelo Alvarez slammed over next opponent as fans make Ryan Garcia point ADN 40Canelo Alvarez is being accused of “cherry-picking” his opponents after it was reported that Jermall Charlo will be his next opponent. Canelo has not fought since beating Charlo’s brother, Jermell, on points last September but announced on Mexican TV that he will be back in the ring on May 4. Although he neglected to confirm the exact identity of his opponent, he did clarify that he is an American fighter, which tallies with The Ring’s report that names Jermall Charlo as the fighter in question. “Canelo is starting to cherry pick” Some fight fans have suggested Canelo will be actively avoiding more dangerous fighters if he takes on Charlo over the likes of David Benavidez, who is regarded as the best super-middleweight contender. One fan wrote: “Ryan Garcia fighting the best consistently and Canelo is starting to cherry pick. Expect the unexpected in boxing,” referencing Canelo’s jibe at his former training stable mate for ‘achieving nothing’ back in 2022. Another wrote: “How can you defend your belts twice in a row against fighters that have to come up & don’t even compete in 168?” Canelo was supposed to face Jermall last year but struggles in Jermall’s personal life meant it was brother Jermell who faced the four-weight world champion instead, stepping up two weight divisions in the process. The step-up in weight proved too big a bridge for Jermell to gap and he was comprehensively beaten on points.

  • Canelo Alvarez next fight: Undisputed crown under threat but Crawford dream remains – Dexerto

Canelo Alvarez next fight: Undisputed crown under threat but Crawford dream remains Associated PressSaul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez’s next fight plans have taken an unexpected turn after the emergence of a mandatory defense of his IBF title from an unexpected opponent. Alvarez (61-2-2), beat Jaime Munguia via unanimous decision in his last fight to retain his WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF super-middleweight titles in Las Vegas on May 4. All eyes are now on the Mexican’s next move, but fans may not be getting the fight they would have hoped for. Canelo Alvarez next fight Alvarez looked set to face William Scull in a mandatory defense of his IBF belt during his next fight, but it now seems that the Mexican may instead vacate his belt and lose his undisputed crown. Purse bids for the fight vs Scull are scheduled for June 6 after a request to expedite proceedings from the Cuban’s camp. Scull (22-0) was thought to be next up for Alvarez after his promoters, AGON Sports & Events, stated that the IBF has ordered a fight between the pair. Scull beat Evgeny Shvedenko to become the mandatory challenger for the IBF belt and now Alvarez – the undisputed WBA, WBC, IBF & WBO super-middleweight champion – must oblige. David Benavidez (WBC) and David Morell (WBA) were thought to be in line to take on Alvarez, but neither the WBC or WBA enforced their mandatory obligations to take on Alvarez. However, latest reports now suggest that Alvarez will instead vacate his IBF belt rather than defend against Scull as the mandatory challenger. That is according to Boxing Scene, who suggest that Alvarez will keep his WBA, WBC & WBO titles, but set his sights on fighting another opponent instead. Will Alvarez fight Benavidez? Alvarez has stated that, “if the money is right”, he will fight Benavidez. Although Benavidez is set to step up to light-heavyweight to face Oleksandr Gvozdyk in his next fight, it is still considered the fight to make in the super-middleweight division. “If the money’s right … I can fight [Benavidez] right now,” he said. “I don’t give a s**t. It’s only a matter of money at this point. Everybody is asking for everything. “When I fought [Erislandy] Lara, Austin Trout, Miguel Angel Cotto, [Floyd] Mayweather, Billy Joe Saunders, GGG, everybody said I don’t want to fight them, and I fought all of them. So right now … I can do whatever I want.” Being as big a fighter as Alvarez is, it is natural for fans to want to see him take on the biggest fights. Right now, there is no contest wanted more by the boxing community than a bout with Benavidez. ‘The Mexican Monster’ is adamant that a fight between himself and Alvarez has to be made. “The fans now are getting upset because this is the biggest fight on the table,” the 27-year-old told ESPN. “Why are we going to leave it on the table for no reason? “This is a fight that has to happen. … I’m going to keep putting these types of performances on where people are going to want to see it. The demand of this fight is really high. It’s bad blood. I don’t like him. He doesn’t like me.” “He’s not going to fight me,” he added. “I think he’s just running out of things to say. He’s literally said every excuse. He said that I only bring 25 pounds in and I’m not nothing. I’m this and that. I’m not dedicated, I’m not respectful. “I think he’s scared of him losing and then me taking all his [fans]. That’s what it is. I don’t really think he’s scared of me. I think he doesn’t want me to get the torch passed.” Turki Alalshikh wants Alvarez vs Crawford Turki Alalshikh, president of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia – the man who holds the largest purse strings in boxing – wants Terence Crawford to fight Canelo Alvarez. “I am working on Canelo and Crawford, I want this fight,” he told the MMA Hour. “We are thinking to do it in America. “We want it huge, in the biggest stadium and a big PPV. We want to do it at the end of the year or at the beginning of [next] year. “I hope nobody stands in our way from doing something like this – the promoters or the belts. In the end, if we want it we will do it.” He was in charge charge of organising Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk and although that fight is being held in Saudi Arabia, a Stateside fight between the pair now seems a possibility. • Canelo Alvarez boxing record: Golovkin trilogy, Mayweather & Bivol losses & undisputed champ – Dexerto

Canelo Alvarez boxing record: Golovkin trilogy, Mayweather & Bivol losses & undisputed champ Associated PressCanelo Alvarez has arguably become boxing’s biggest superstar over the last decade and he cemented that status with an impressive win over Jaime Munguia this month. Alvarez is the current undisputed super middleweight champion, owning the WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO and The Ring titles and defended those titles with an impressive unanimous decision win over the previously unbeaten Munguia. The Mexican boxer has become one of the most popular fighters in the world thanks to his superb punching power and technical skills in the ring. Alvarez has a collection of noteworthy fights and important wins that have positioned him as the pound-for-pound force he is in boxing today. While we wait to discover his next opponent for an expected September fight date, here is a look at his impressive fight record so far Contents Ricardo Cano, 2007 – Antonio Fitch, 2009 – Shane Mosley, 2012 – Floyd Mayweather, 2013 – Miguel Cotto, 2015 – Gennadiy Golovkin, 2017 – Gennadiy Golovkin 2, 2018 – Sergey Kovalev, 2019 – Callum Smith, 2020 – Caleb Plant, 2021 – Dmitry Bivol, 2022 – Jermell Charlo, 2023 – Ricardo Cano, 2007 Canelo added the first bit of hardware to his collection when he defeated Ricardo Cano for the Jalisco welterweight title in his 15th career fight in 2007. He was young, but showed signs of the superstar he’d become not too long after. His hand speed and precision helped earn him the win. This was his first fight with significant implications, and he did not disappoint. Antonio Fitch, 2009 Alvarez looked scarily good against Antonio Fitch as he continued to build a name for himself at welterweight. There wasn’t much to the fight outside of Canelo’s dangerous overhand rights that had Fitch stumble back and force the referee to call the fight. Alvarez took home the vacant NABF welterweight title with the win. This victory came at the tail end of Alvarez’s four-and-a-half year run in the 147-pound division. He would move up to light-middleweight a year later and strive toward a major world title. Shane Mosley, 2012 After getting his hands on his first world title — the WBC light middleweight crown against Matthew Hatton in March of 2011 — Alvarez made the fourth defense of his belt against Shane Mosley in 2012. Canelo’s power and aggression overwhelmed Mosley from round to round and his defense proved impenetrable. He scored a huge win over his first expected Hall-of-Fame opponent, and made the then-40-year-old all-time great look like a shell of himself, which ‘Sugar’ Shane came to grips with after losing the one-sided affair, saying this after the bout. “He can go a long way. When the kids start to beat you, you might need to start going to promoting. I didn’t expect him to be that fast or that good.” Floyd Mayweather, 2013 Alvarez took on the face of boxing, pound-for-pound king, and pay-per-view star Floyd Mayweather in the greatest test of his career. Usually, Alvarez was the calculated counter puncher, but in this fight, he had to deal with Mayweather’s counters, as well as his excellent defense. The fight was exciting and generated $150 million from 2.2 million pay-per-view buys. The latter of which was the second-best figure in history at that time. Canelo couldn’t break Mayweather Jr.’s storied undefeated record, but this fight helped him reach new heights in popularity and transitioned him into his prime. Miguel Cotto, 2015 Canelo had his sights set on Miguel Cotto’s The Ring middleweight title after moving up from the 154-pound ranks in 2015. Stylistically, this was one of Canelo’s best fights to date. Cotto was a very mobile fighter who fought with finesse and speed. Despite the Puerto Rican’s savviness in the ring and great head movement, Alvarez was able to counterpunch and pick his spots to collect a majority of the rounds and the victory when it was said and done. The win made him an accomplished two-division world champion. Canelo would go on to fluctuate between middleweight and light middleweight before engaging in a trilogy with one of his fiercest rivals two years later. Gennadiy Golovkin, 2017 Canelo Alvarez vs Gennadiy Golovkin 1 was one of the most hyped fights of the decade. Right after Alvarez defeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in May of 2017, he called out ‘GGG’ in his post-fight interview, looking to add more major belts to his name in the 160-pound division. Golovkin came in the ring to confront him and confirm the bout for his WBC, WBA and IBF middleweight belts later that year. Canelo entered the fight as a +120 betting underdog. Once the bell sounded, Golovkin took to the inside of the ring, and kept Alvarez on his back foot as the expected aggressor. The two fought a close fight; so close, that it was ruled a draw. This laid the groundwork for their trilogy to unfold. Gennady Golovkin 2, 2018 Alvarez proved he was the better fighter in his rematch with Golovkin in 2018. He had an answer for ‘GGG’ at every turn. Fans lauded the intense battle as a true fight in the phone booth, and though Golovkin did not back down, a close eye showed that Alvarez was the more effective puncher. He improved to 50-1-2 with the win. The two would go on to settle the score in a third fight, which Canelo also won in a unanimous decision, despite Golovkin showing clear signs of deterioration at age 40. Sergey Kovalev, 2019 At this stage in Canelo’s career, he had already fought in five divisions and he faced Sergey Kovalev for Kovalev’s WBO light heavyweight title in 2019. Alvarez withstood the four-time champion’s sharp jab and piled on with crisp 1-2 combinations, culminating in a body shot to the ribs and a right hook that took Kovalev’s legs from under him in round 11. The win made him a world champion in his fourth weight class and the 21st quadruple champion ever. Callum Smith, 2020 This fight for Callum Smith’s WBA (super) and The Ring super middleweight titles was another day at the office for Canelo. Smith, the much bigger fighter at 6-foot-3, kept busy, but his punches weren’t landing. Canelo stayed the course, fought patiently, and was effective with the punches he threw. Alvarez dominated from start to finish to become unified champ at 168 pounds with the unanimous decision victory. This was a major win for the 5-foot-8 boxer, as he again proved that he could wear down a much bigger fighter over the course of 12 rounds. Caleb Plant, 2021 Things got heated between Alvarez and Caleb Plant before their bout for the undisputed super-middleweight title. Canelo savagely trash talked the then-IBF super middleweight champion in one of their pre-fight press conferences and Plant tried to slap him after getting shoved during the face-off. When it was time to legally exchange blows, Canelo was on the hunt from the jump and showed a great ability to crack through Plant’s defense, scoring powerful hooks in the middle rounds. A vicious left hook-uppercut combination knocked Plant down first in round 11 and a flurry put him away moments later, earning Canelo the undisputed title. Many pundits touted Plant as a threat to Alvarez, but not enough to label him the favorite, which proved to be the correct stance. Dmitry Bivol, 2022 Canelo climbed back up to 175 pounds to try and dethrone Dmitry Bivol in 2022, who greatly bothered the former light heavyweight champion with his unique stance and longer reach. As the bigger fighter, Bivol kept Alvarez at bay. On top of that, the Russian fighter’s hand speed added another element to the fight that allowed him to fend off Canelo, who likes to fight in close. Alvarez took a rare loss, making it the second defeat of his career. Jermell Charlo, 2023 Canelo came under fire by boxing analysts like Stephen A. Smith for not taking David Benavidez’s challenge to fight at 168 pounds, and instead fighting junior middleweight champion Jermell Charlo, who had to gain 14 pounds for their contest on September 30, 2023. While Charlo was one of the best opponents Canelo got in the ring with, Canelo was the aggressor, continually getting him on the ropes in the feel-out rounds and landing devastating shots to the body. Charlo came alive in round five with a series of hooks and straight rights that split Alvarez’s guard, but the Mexican champ proved to be too much, out-landing him on his way to his sixth title defense.Canelo Alvarez’s boxing record Canelo Alvarez is 61-2-2 in 64 professional bouts. He has won 39 of his victories by way of knockout. For information on Alvarez’s upcoming fight against Jaime Munguia on May 4, check out our boxing hub.

  • Bryce Hall finally agrees to fight Tayler Holder in bare knuckle boxing match – Dexerto

Bryce Hall finally agrees to fight Tayler Holder in bare knuckle boxing match YouTube; Bryce Hall, Tayler HolderTikTok star Bryce Hall has finally agreed to fight fellow influencer Tayler Holder in a bare knuckle boxing match after months of feuding. The beef between Bryce Hall and Tayler Holder is finally coming to a head, as Hall has officially agreed to face off with his longtime rival in a bare knuckle boxing match. He agreed to the fight in a series of comments on Twitter/X after telling boxing promotion Happy Punch that he’d happily fight Holder in a bare knuckle boxing match. Holder agreed, writing, “Cool, send me the contract.” “You have no idea what you just signed up for buddy,” Hall replied, saying the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship would be in touch, a league he’s fought in before. He followed up with another post, saying, “Easy. Sending contract.” Judging by these posts, it looks like a match between the two TikTok stars is all but certain — something netizens have been waiting for since 2022. The beef between these TikTokers goes back over a year, when Holder was unfollowed en masse by a slew of other creators amid murky allegations. Hall was open about his distaste for Holder after this incident and even called him out for a boxing match on several occasions. However, Holder wasn’t enthusiastic about facing off with Hall, calling his boxing challenges “weird.” It looks like his tune has changed, though, as Holder offered to fight Hall in early 2024, marking a major turn in his previous stance on the subject. Interestingly, it was Hall who declined the offer this time, saying he didn’t want to give Holder a platform… but now, it looks like the deal is officially on as these two work out a contract to end their feud once and for all.

  • Boxing legend tells Jake Paul he’s ‘pissing people off’ with Mike Tyson fight – Dexerto

Boxing legend tells Jake Paul he’s ‘pissing people off’ with Mike Tyson fight YouTube: Jake PaulJake Paul has been told his fight with Mike Tyson is just being done to ‘piss people off’ and that the legend ‘shouldn’t be in the ring’ by a former boxing champion. When Jake Paul and Mike Tyson first announced that they’d be fighting, they were roundedly criticized by active boxers, legends, and boxing fans alike. Many critics were quick to point out the massive age gap between them, as well as ‘Iron’ Mike’s potential health issues with stepping back into the ring. That fight, which was initially scheduled for July 20, was postponed after the 58-year-old suffered an ulcer flare-up during a flight. Jake went on to defeat Mike Perry in his place, with the fight against Tyson being rescheduled for November 15. ‘Iron’ Mike is already back in training for that clash, and is going through a three-month fight camp. However, he ‘shouldn’t be in the ring’ according to former boxing champion Carl Froch. “I think Mike Tyson’s too old to be in the ring. I think that was shown when he got carried off the aeroplane with his bad back,” the Corba told BestAnonymousCasinos following Jake’s win over Perry. “[It’s a pro fight] just to create more f*cking stir. That’s just to piss more people off.” Froch, who has criticized Jake’s boxing career plenty, said his “only beef” with the ‘Problem Child is that he “can’t really fight.” He added: “He’s got a massive weight advantage on most of the guys he fights… [his fights are] mismatches. It’s an unfair advantage. He’s that much of a b*tch, he makes it so he’s so much heavier than his opponent.” The YouTuber-turned-boxer also called out UFC champion Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira after his win over Perry. That has already been shut down by Dana White, as the UFC boss said he doesn’t think about Jake anymore.

  • Boxing legend open to Jake Paul fight on one unique condition – Dexerto

Boxing legend open to Jake Paul fight on one unique condition Instagram/JakePaulBoxing legend Prince Naseem Hamed is up for fighting Jake Paul in the future as he considers coming out of retirement. But, a fight with Jake would only happen under one unique condition. Since stepping into the boxing world, Jake Paul has verbally sparred with some of the sport’s greatest-ever fighters. He’s gone after the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, Carl Froch, and Tyson Fury, all in a bid to create some attention. He will, finally, step into the ring and come face-to-face with a living boxing legend in July, as he takes on ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson live on Netflix. The ‘Problem Child’ does have other suitors lining up too. Despite having received callouts from the world of mixed martial arts, it’s an offer from Prince Naseem Hamed – the former Featherweight and Bantamweight champion, who has a 36-1 record – that looks pretty interesting. The 50-year-old stepped away from boxing in 2002, and has since cited chronic problems with his hands as the reason why. He never officially retired, however, and would be up for fighting Jake if the money from the fight went to charity. “You need to understand something, fighting for a country for somebody to do well, for somebody to raise money, an obscene amount of money, then I could think about that. And I could get out of bed and do some serious training and get fit and maybe do it. For that, yes.” “That’s the only time that really deep down in my heart I’d want to fight, to do something on that basis [to raise money],” the British boxing icon told TalkSport. Hamed noted that he’d likely raise money for Yemen – where his parents are from – and Palestine. “So I’d love to go into training and, you never know, if we could do like me, and my three sons all on one card in the Middle East, that would be one of my dreams,” he added, noting that he never officially retired. Stranger things have certainly happened, and, as we’re seeing with Tyson, Jake is coaxing legends into fighting one last time.

  • Bill Haney gatecrashes Conor Benn press conference as Devin Haney fight emerges as possibility – Dexerto

Bill Haney gatecrashes Conor Benn press conference as Devin Haney fight emerges as possibility Matchroom BoxingDevin Haney’s father and trainer, Bill Haney, gatecrashed Conor Benn’s post-fight press conference on Saturday, fuelling talk a fight between the pair could be in the offing. Benn maintained his undefeated record with a unanimous decision win over American welterweight Peter Dobson at Las Vegas’ Cosmopolitan Hotel. It was his second consecutive fight in the United States as he still does not have a license to fight in his native United Kingdom. The 27-year-old is awaiting the results from the British Boxing Board of Control’s appeal of the lifting of his provisional doping suspension by the National Anti-Doping Panel. Benn insists he is innocent of intentionally doping after testing positive for female fertility drug clomifene in 2022 and the appeal could be heard this month. But while he continues to fight stateside, one of the biggest fighters in the sport could well be gearing up for a fight with ‘The Destroyer’ in the near future. Haney, 25, is already a former undisputed lightweight world champion and current WBC super-lightweight world champion. A step up to welterweight in the future is inevitable and a fight with Benn could be huge, both in the UK and the US. And those flames were fanned last night when Bill Haney gatecrashed Benn’s post-fight press conference and had a respectful exchange with Benn, before discussing a future fight. “I heard somebody’s looking for us,” Haney began. “Congratulations Conor. It probably wasn’t the performance you would’ve liked, but we know you’re a real player in the game so I wanted to come over here and tell you congratulations.” “I respect you and your family. You guys [Nigel Benn and Conor] are a legend, and, of course, it would be an honor and a pleasure at that time if it presents it. Thank you guys for inviting me.” Devin Haney fight emerges as possibility Benn was respectful back to Haney Sr but the respect between himself and Haney Jr clearly isn’t the same. Devin Haney stoked the flames as he took to X during Benn’s fight to tweet: “Left that s**t in the needle,” in response to a fan asking where Benn’s power had gone, and referring to Benn’s ongoing drug test dispute. And when it was brought up in his press conference, Benn wasted little time in firing back. “What is he talking about, power? He has never had power. My DNA is strong. I am fresh out of my dad. He is just jealous because he has never had none.” “If he wants to come find out about the power, I am more than happy to show him. He can get it next, he has been very vocal. “His dad showed a lot of respect. Bill Haney has a lot of class, but he needs to teach his kid some manners. I will deal with him no problem.”

  • Astrid Wett says Misfits Boxing treated her like “absolute dogsh*t” – Dexerto

Astrid Wett says Misfits Boxing treated her like “absolute dogsh*t” Twitter/X: Astrid WettInfluencer-boxer and OnlyFans creator Astrid Wett is calling out Misfits Boxing, saying she was treated like “absolute dogsh*t” on the viral Prime card in 2023. Influencer-boxing continues to dominate social media as creators like Jake Paul, KSI and more test their mettle in the ring. In October 2023, Misfits Boxing — a boxing promotion lead in part by KSI — held their highly-anticipated Prime Card, which saw KSI lose to Tommy Fury and Logan Paul take a sweet, sweet victory over Dillon Danis. While the card enjoyed immense success, making PPV history with a reported 1.3 million buys, some of its combatants had a far less enjoyable experience. Astrid Wett slams “sexist” Misfits Boxing: ‘I was treated like dogsh*t’ Astrid Wett is now claiming that she was treated like “absolute dogsh*t” on the Prime card, as told in an explosive video uploaded on January 19, 2024. In her seven-minute-long video, Wett claimed that Misfits forced her to fight at a loss and “backed her into a corner,” saying she only signed her contract on Monday of fight week because the company “messed me around so much.” “Misfits tell you that they pay their fighters well,” she said. “They don’t. I was paid £12,000 to fight on that card, bearing in mind my training cost me £15,000 alone. They made their female champ fight for a loss on the biggest boxing influencer card of all time, by the way.” That’s not all; Wett also alleged that Misfits threatened to kick her from the Prime card if she failed to headline their No. 9 event in Newcastle with seven days notice, claiming that negotiations for the Prime card were so stressful “it actually caused my hair to fall out.” “I don’t know whether they’re just sexist or not, but they boast about selling 1 million pay-per-views at £20 each on this card. So they made at least 20 million, yet they couldn’t afford to put my team in hotels. I had to pay for my own trainer and my own team to stay in a hotel for a week.” Ultimately, Wett has made the decision to leave Misfits Boxing behind. Misfits Boxing co-president Mams Taylor took to Twitter following the news and shared a gif as his response to the accusations from Astrid. “Oh no! Anyway…,” it reads. KSI himself hasn’t responded just yet, however, but we’ll be sure to update you if he does.

  • Anthony Joshua’s coach explains why Francis Ngannou got knocked out – Dexerto

Anthony Joshua’s coach explains why Francis Ngannou got knocked out Associated PressAnthony Joshua’s coach has explained Francis Ngannou’s critical error, which stopped the mega fight prematurely in round two. Francis Ngannou, a former UFC champion, fought Anthony Joshua, a former boxing world champion, in a combat sports “super fight” on March 8. The fight lasted less than two rounds, with Joshua sending Ngannou to the canvas on three occasions, including the final knockout blow. Joshua’s coach, Ben Davison, appeared on an MMA Hour episode and explained why Ngannou’s trademark chin didn’t hold up. Anthony Joshua targeted Francis Ngannou’s weakness Host Ariel Helwani asked what game planning against Ngannou looked like, as he only had one boxing match under his belt at the time. “We couldn’t really use or take much information from [his UFC fights]. But he did have that one fight with Fury, and we did find some tendencies,” Davison said. Helwani pushed for greater detail about those tendencies, and Davison obliged. “[Ngannou] struggles to defend the right hand from southpaw stance, and that’s what led to the knockout. “I just think [switching stances] was a mistake on his behalf. I don’t think Francis doesn’t have a chin, but I don’t think it had ever been tested properly. “It’s just, I think no matter how good your chin is when you’re getting hit with punches that you can’t see by somebody like Anthony Joshua – no chin is going to hold up against that.” Ngannou receives high praise from Joshua’s coach Davison is a well-known trainer who gets credit for helping Tyson Fury overcome severe personal issues en route to becoming champion. The long-time trainer offered encouragement for Ngannou’s boxing aspirations. “I think [the Fury fight] was a fight that didn’t really make sense at the time,” Davison remarked. “But, you know, post that fight, it did make sense. [Ngannou] put in a fantastic performance. “And I genuinely do believe, even now, he’s a credible world-class heavyweight whether that’s boxing or MMA.” Even after a devastating loss in his second career boxing match, Ngannou is receiving high praise from many in the sport and Davison firmly believes in Ngannou’s chances of carving out a successful boxing career. “I think he would be a handful for anybody,” Joshua’s trainer said emphatically.

  • Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury purse worth $200m claims Eddie Hearn – Dexerto

Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury purse worth $200m claims Eddie Hearn YouTube: The Stomping Ground/Associated PressEddie Hearn has claimed that Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury’s purse would be worth more than $200 million if the pair stepped into the ring together. Joshua’s next fight could well be against Fury if the Gypsy King can beat Oleksandr Usyk on May, 18. Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, has now shared details of just how much each fighter could make from the bout which he claims would be “the biggest fight ever”. “I mean, certainly, you are talking north of £100million ($126.15m) for each guy,” he told Piers Morgan Uncensored. “The biggest fight ever… We would do alright. We take a percentage of Anthony Joshua. “It varies across what he earns. As a fighter starts to become more powerful, more popular, your relationship with them extends through a longer contract. “Don’t forget Anthony Joshua signed a life long contract with us three years ago [which is] very unique in the sport. He’s the most loyal fighter… He’s involved in the business, as well, which is the first time we’ve ever done that with a client.” Although the numbers being mentioned are astronomical, it will not be the most lucrative fight in the history of the sport. It is estimated that Floyd Mayweather Jr made £230m ($290m) and Conor McGregor £80m ($100.9m) from their fight in 2017. Mayweather is also understood to have made £200m ($252.3m) from his bout with Manny Pacquiao, who in turn took home £100m ($126.13m). Hearn is desperate for Fury to beat Usyk next month as he looks to clear the way for Joshua and Fury to meet in the ring in what has been a highly anticipated fight for some time now. Joshua’s promoter pleaded with Fury to beat his opponent after AJ knocked out Francis Ngannou in the second round of their fight in Saudi Arabia last month.

  • Anthony Joshua reveals “fuel” that would motivate him in Tyson Fury fight – Dexerto

Anthony Joshua reveals “fuel” that would motivate him in Tyson Fury fight Associated PressAnthony Joshua has revealed he has stored every bit of trash talk he has received from heavyweight rival Tyson Fury and will use it as fuel if the pair do finally fight each other in the ring. For the last eight-and-a-half years, the British rivals have both simultaneously held world title belts but a mega fight between the pair has never quite materialized. However, now Saudi boxing promoter Turki Alalshikh has managed to get Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn and Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, to work together on shows, a fight between the pair feels closer than ever. Fury will unify his WBC belt with Oleksandr Usyk’s WBA, IBF and WBO straps when the pair fight each other to become undisputed heavyweight champion of the world in Saudi Arabia next month. Joshua will be eyeing a shot at the winner of that bout, having twice previously lost to Usyk himself, but British fight fans will hope Fury emerges victorious to finally set up what would arguably be the biggest ever British fight. And should that come to pass, Joshua has revealed during an appearance on the Jonathan Ross Show that he is in no mood to forget any of the trash talk Fury has dished out over the years. “100%,” Joshua replied when asked if he takes trash talk personally. “You take it personally and you meditate on it and you want to punish them for what they have said about you. When pressed over how he felt when Fury called him a “silly sausage”, Joshua countered: “What do you think I felt? “This is one of my rivals, this is someone I want to compete with one day. Everything he has said, I have it stored in the back of my memory and when the fight happens I want to use that as a lot of fuel.”

  • Andre Ward advises Ryan Garcia to put down social media after massive rant – Dexerto

Andre Ward advises Ryan Garcia to put down social media after massive rant Associated PressBoxing great Andre Ward suggested that Ryan Garcia go zero-dark-thirty on social media after posting a long string of frantic Tweets leading up to his light welterweight title bout against Devin Haney. Ward questioned why Garcia was posting so much rather than focusing on his training. The future Hall-of-Famer was also alarmed by what Garcia was revealing to the public. From experience, the 40-year-old boxing analyst saw Garcia’s tirade as damaging to his fight. Ward offered sound wisdom to the 25-year-old pugilist and social media sensation at a time where he may have needed to hear it the most. Andre Ward implored Ryan Garcia’s camp to reel him in Ward spoke with TMZ Sports on Saturday about the highly-anticipated bout. When asked if Garcia’s apparent meltdown was a reason for him to back out of fighting Haney on April 20, Ward took a more combative stance: “That ain’t time for self-care, that’s not time for counseling, that’s time to get ready for war,” Ward proclaimed. The former two-division world champion didn’t like seeing Garcia exploit his own vulnerabilities in Tweets such as this: Garcia didn’t wholly play the victim. He also touched on many topics unrelated to the fight, including conspiracy theories and world conflicts. Nonetheless, Ward recognized a sense of franticness from the former lightweight champion. He ultimately looked out for his best interest, professing that he’d be praying for the knockout artist before giving more sound advice: “It’s enough to be dealing with it and struggling with it as is,” he continued, “but then you gon’ let the whole world in on your struggle. It’s not always a wise thing to do.” The Showtime Boxing commentator, like the rest of the boxing world, wants to see an epic fight go down between Garcia and Haney. The lead up to a fight is where opponents try to gain psychological advantages over one another through trash talk. Garcia may have handed Haney another prop to damage his confidence before entering the squared circle later this spring.

  • Amir Khan says Mike Tyson could “really hurt” Jake Paul – Dexerto

Amir Khan says Mike Tyson could “really hurt” Jake Paul Associated PressBoxing legend Amir Khan spoke to Gambling Zone, warning Jake Paul how dangerous the 57-year-old Mike Tyson still is. When news of the upcoming Jake Paul and Mike Tyson Netflix fight surfaced, many combat sports fans couldn’t believe that Tyson agreed to the fight. Or that Paul had. Former boxers and mixed martial artists have also weighed in on the match, with some claiming that Paul is taking advantage of an aging Tyson. Amir Khan, a well-known name in the boxing world, offered a different opinion. He sees the possibility of Tyson “really hurting” Paul in the ring. Jake Paul receives warning ahead of Mike Tyson fight Gambling Zone asked Khan to elaborate and explain why, at 57 years old, Tyson is still a formidable threat. “The fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul — wow, no one would have ever expected a fight like that to be made,” Khan said. “Mike Tyson is a legend of the game and not someone you want to mess with, even though he’s older now and has been retired for a long time. “I just feel that he can really hurt Jake Paul. I just can’t believe what Paul’s thinking. He’s fighting a heavyweight great, and I think he can get hurt badly. “This is unreal. I hope Mike doesn’t end up hurting him because, at the end of the day, I like Jake. “But Mike is not a person you want to mess with, especially when you’re a lot smaller and lighter. It amazes me, and I’m shocked. “I’ve got Mike Tyson winning by knockout. Even though he’s in his fifties, he’s still a dangerous guy.” Khan made no bones about it — he’s picking Tyson and predicting the victory will come in a dominant fashion. Paul is 30 years younger than Tyson and has been training frequently in recent years, while “Iron Mike” has enjoyed retirement. Still, according to Khan, Paul has a legitimate chance of getting knocked out for the first time in his boxing career.

  • Amir Khan reveals KSI fight timeline amid offer to replace Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul – Dexerto

Amir Khan reveals KSI fight timeline amid offer to replace Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul Associated PressAmir Khan is hopeful his proposed fight against KSI will be announced in the “next four weeks” and has warned the YouTube star and his rival Jake Paul that he plans to knock both of them out in his next two fights. Khan, a former unified super-lightweight world champion, has not fought since a high profile defeat to long time British rival Kell Brook in February 2022. The 37-year-old has recently returned from a two-year ban for unintentionally ingesting the banned substance ostarine and although he is officially retired from the professional boxing game, he is said to be considering a return to the ring. It has emerged that he is in talks with influencer boxing superstar KSI over a fight in the UK in August, and Khan took to social media to reveal his plan to not only beat KSI in 2024, but also Paul in the early part of 2025. And now Khan has revealed he is hopeful of getting a fight announcement with KSI within the next four weeks. “If it was to be signed and done, I think we will get an announcement in the next four weeks and then we will start to prepare,” Khan told Offshore Poker Sites. “The UK [is my preference] because boxing fans always turn out and everyone in the UK will want me to smash his face in. He’s picking someone who’s very dangerous and can hurt him quite badly.” Should he beat KSI, Khan wants to fight Paul after his bout with Mike Tyson. Paul vs Tyson was initially scheduled for July 20 but was postponed on medical grounds, after Tyson took ill on a flight from Los Angeles to Miami. Netflix are said to be determined to ensure Paul vs Tyson is the first boxing event they broadcast and are said to have swatted away possible replacements to fight Paul on the initial July date. As such, that fight is expected to be rearranged for the final quarter of 2024 and, although Khan would have been willing to replace Tyson in July, he is keen to entertain a fight with Paul if he beats the former heavyweight champion of the world. “Mike Tyson is long past his best and really doesn’t have it in anymore, but I’ve still got it in me. I’m still training and keeping fit. He’s messing around with someone who just recently retired,” Khan added. “They want to get lawyers involved and everything, the negotiations have got that far. I’m a prizefighter and if it makes sense financially then 100% [it will happen]. These YouTubers sometimes bite off more than they can chew. “He’s said he wants to fight and when the contract is signed, he’s going to get hurt. He will understand then that there’s no turning back then. He might be taking the fight for a bit of hype, but I’m not taking it as a joke. “If the weights are right [I would step in for Mike Tyson] I don’t mind giving away 20 pounds. It just depends on the weight because I know Jake has put on a lot of weight to fight Mike. “Jake’s not normally that big, but he’s put on a lot of mass, so it depends on him, whether he’s willing to lose that weight and we find some middle ground somewhere. “Let’s see, but I’ve had no calls about that, so I assume they’re still hoping to fight Mike, he’s not going to want to take a beating before that. “But it’s KSI who has been speaking the big game and once he’s taken a beating, and if I’m going to do that, I may as well bang both of them out. I’d take on KSI first and then knock Jake Paul out after that. “Let’s see how he looks against Mike Tyson, if he gets knocked out badly I wouldn’t entertain it, but if he looks really good, then it would be worth entertaining.” For all the biggest results and upcoming fights this year, check out Dexerto’s 2024 boxing schedule. • Adin Ross’s boxing events shut down after fighter suffers brain damage – Dexerto

Adin Ross’s boxing events shut down after fighter suffers brain damage Kick/AdinRossKick streamer Adin Ross’s ‘Brand Risk’ boxing events have been shut down by The Florida Boxing Commission, but he has a plan. Adin Ross has been hosting boxing matches on his Kick channel, but his March 23 event caused some big problems for the streamer that resulted in his fights getting banned by the state of Florida. According to the 23-year-old, a fighter suffered a serious injury during his last event – and as a result, he’s no longer allowed to host boxing matches in Florida. “One of those fat f**ks got like, brain damage and complained. Maybe not complained, but like, the commission, they basically got mad,” Ross explained. “We cannot do boxing [anymore].” (Segment begins at 26:19) However, the streamer has a backup plan in place and is letting his viewers decide how his events will evolve from one combat sport to another. “We can either do MMA or we can do kickboxing,” Ross revealed. “I think we should do kickboxing, because MMA is going to be a little bit harder to train and it’s gonna take more time. And I have to literally build an octagon.” Ross added that kickboxing would also allow for his events to be run in the exact same format as before, but will allow fighters to kick and knee each other, as well. The Kick star says he he plans to run a couple of kickboxing events before transitioning to MMA, or even running both and hosting two events a month. That’s not all; Adin also claimed that his ultimate goal for his MMA events is to eventually join forces with UFC President Dana White.

  • Adin Ross ready for “war” amid claims that KSI’s Misfits Boxing is suing him – Dexerto

Adin Ross ready for “war” amid claims that KSI’s Misfits Boxing is suing him Adin RossKick streamer Adin Ross has said he’s ready for “war” with KSI’s Misfits Boxing amid claims he’s being sued by them. Adin Ross has quickly become one of the biggest streamers in the world, making himself the king of Kick as the platform’s most followed creator. So far in 2024, the Kick star has taken his content to the next level, purchasing his own warehouse where he’s already hosted several events, including a boxing match. The 23-year-old’s next boxing event is set to go down on March 16, where KSI’s Misfits Boxing fighter Deen The Great will be touching gloves with Adam Saleh. However, KSI’s boxing promotion is allegedly attempting to sue Adin Ross for using their contracted fighter Deen. Adin Ross ready for “war” as KSI’s Misfits Boxing sues him With Deen The Great set to step into the ring, the Misfits boxer alleged on March 5 that his promotion is attempting to sue him for fighting on Adin Ross’ event. “Crazy how I’m sparring on Adin’s stream on the 16th with Adam, not getting paid for it, and Misfits is threatening to sue me,” he wrote on Twitter/X. On March 8, Adin has now alleged that Misfits is now attempting to sue him as well. “I’m being sued by Misfits,” he said on his livestream. “Misfits served me because they’re insecure, and they can’t let me do my own thing. So that is crazy as f*ck, and it’s just sad, bro.” But, it appears he won’t be backing down, posting on Twitter/X: “LMAOOOO LETS GO TO WAR.” Responding to KSI mocking him with laughing and pointing emojis, he claimed the fight is going ahead on March 16 regardless of Misfits attempting to sue him. “I mean bro [I don’t care] personally I’m still doing it you can try and sue me and Eddie I [swear to god I don’t give a f**k],” he said. “March 16 Dean vs Adam is happening.” Deen and Saleh were originally supposed to go blow-for-blow with just 10oz gloves, commonly used in professionally sanctioned fights. However, the two will now allegedly spar wearing 14oz gloves. Regardless, Adin is adamant they will step in the ring on March 16.

  • YouTuber JackFrags reveals trick to get flying tanks in Battlefield 2042 – Dexerto

YouTuber JackFrags reveals trick to get flying tanks in Battlefield 2042 EAAerial warfare has been given a new meaning in Battlefield 2042. Streamer and content creator JackFrags found a clever way to manipulate the air space with a flying tank. One of the unique elements in the Battlefield franchise is the way in which you can approach combat. You can be a traditional ground soldier rocking an Assault Rifle, or you can become a master of the game’s vehicles. One of these is a good ol’ fashioned tank, an almost impenetrable hunk of metal with a big gun. They’re great for taking out infantry, blowing holes through walls, and eradicating other vehicular foes. Tanks are traditionally known for being excellent on the ground, but JackFrags managed to diversify its capabilities. In one of his recent Battlefield 2042 videos, JackFrags and other streamers demonstrated how to create a flying tank. The weird thing is, it’s apparently not even that hard to make one. The process involved having a fully-functioning VTOL Jet at the ready, and of course, a tank. There were two different ways they went about creating this unorthodox vehicle, with one being far simpler than the other. The first way was to position the VTOL at an angle on the ground and have the tank drive onto it. The much easier method involved calling in a tank using the vehicle delivery service, making sure it was aligned with the VTOL. The vehicle itself didn’t actually prove to be all that effective to use and was hard to keep on the VTOL. Nevertheless, the streamers had fun using the inventive creation and flying tanks could be a welcome change from endless Hovercrafts. Given how creative the Battlefield community is, you can imagine flying tanks being the basis for many Battlefield 2042 compilations.

  • xQc and Pokelawls baffled by Battlefield 2042’s “weird” post-game voice lines – Dexerto

xQc and Pokelawls baffled by Battlefield 2042’s “weird” post-game voice lines DICE / xQc TwitchPopular Twitch streamers xQc and Pokelawls were confused by Battlefield 2042’s post-game lobby that incorporates voice lines that the broadcasters couldn’t believe. The next installment of the beloved franchise brings Battlefield to next-gen consoles with insane graphics and updated systems to refine its classic formula. Weapons feel impactful, particle effects raise the intensity of battle, and specialists are a lot more personalized. But DICE might have gotten a bit too casual with their implementation of post-game voice lines in BF 2042 going by the reactions from the pair of streamers after hearing them. “Why do they make war look so fun,” Poke said. “That’s so weird.” Characters were heard saying things like “I’m not overconfident, just better than everyone else” and “A good day’s work. But I’m not one to brag.” Read more: Battlefield 2042 review in progress – Poke was baffled by Specialist quips that you can hear after a game wraps up. The particularly cheery tones were sending mixed signals for a game that goes above and beyond to recreate the large-scale realism of a war-torn battlefield. “‘I just killed a town full of civilians to get their oil! Onto the next country, let’s resupply and go again,’” xQc said mocking the voice lines. These lines are more for the player’s benefit to give the game a more personal feel instead of a generic post-game lobby. Some in the Battlefield community were similarly confused while also pointing to the in-game lines that characters can be heard saying. “I thought the exact same thing during the beta,” one person said. “The characters also make quips when they’re driving vehicles like ‘woohoo, hell yeah, this is so fun.’ Jesus Christ.”

  • Will Battlefield 2042 have a Battle Royale mode? – Dexerto

Will Battlefield 2042 have a Battle Royale mode? Electronic ArtsThere’s no denying the extraordinary success of the Battle Royale genre in recent years but will EA’s new Battlefield 2042 be taking advantage with one of its own? Here’s everything we know. What began with the likes of PUBG and Fortnite rapidly took hold of the gaming industry and became a key focus for developers around the world. The Battle Royale genre has left an indelible mark on the industry and seen dozens of unique takes over the years. As a matter of fact, Battlefield even tried its hand early on with Firestorm in Battlefield V. With the next title now locked in, fans are eagerly awaiting news on a new Battle Royale component for Battlefield 2042. But is anything of the sort actually in the works? Here’s everything we know about a potential Battle Royale mode for EA’s next big FPS title. Will Battlefield 2042 have a Battle Royale mode at launch? In short, Battlefield 2042 will not have a Battle Royale experience at launch. When the game hits store shelves on October 22, it will do so with three distinct multiplayer experiences. First up is All Out Warfare, the traditional Battlefield modes players have grown to love over the years. Next is Hazard Zone, an entirely new game-type with a focus on tight squad play. Last is a secretive third mode to be unveiled at EA Play Live on July 22. We know for certain that Hazard Zone is not a Battle Royale mode. As for the final component, it’s described as an “exciting new game-type,” one that serves as a “love letter to long-time players.” If it’s something completely new, this more than likely rules out a Battle Royale for the remaining mode as well. Will Battlefield 2042 have a Battle Royale mode after launch? While Battlefield 2042 will be launching with its three multiplayer experiences, that doesn’t mean the door is necessarily shut on future additions. We could certainly see more returning modes as seasons pass by, or even new ideas altogether. As for a Battle Royale specifically, nothing is concrete just yet though it certainly appears to be on the table. “[It’s] something we’ll have to see down the line, Nickole Li, Associate Producer at DICE told Dexerto. “Within the launch scope, we do not have that intention there.” Perhaps when 2042 has found its footing and players are enjoying the first year of seasonal content, we may see updates on a Battle Royale experience. We’ll just have to wait and see what EA has in store after the game’s release.

  • When will Battlefield 2042 be on EA Play? – Dexerto

When will Battlefield 2042 be on EA Play? EABattlefield 2042 is available on a number of different platforms including PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, but when will EA and DICE’s war shooter be coming to EA Play? EA Play is a paid subscription service in which fans of EA titles can get instant access to a huge range of the company’s extensive catalog. From FIFA to Madden to Mass Effect, the service already has plenty of top-tier titles to choose from. Interestingly, Battlefield 4, Battlefield V, and Battlefield 1 are all available to members, and Battlefield 2042 isn’t exactly an older game like its predecessors, but it has been out a while. The game’s lifecycle has been an up and down journey so far with the game getting off to a rough start with fans wanting refunds, to players now enjoying it thanks to Season One: Zero Hour. To try and tempt more players, it begs the question — when will Battlefield 2042 be coming to EA Play? Battlefield 2042 on EA Play: PlayStation, Xbox, Steam & Origin So far, EA has yet to make any comment with regards to Battlefield 2042 being free to EA Play subscribers, so we’d imagine it still may some time yet until the developer/publisher adds it to the already stellar selection of titles. Players have also been wondering if Battlefield 2042 is available to Xbox Game Pass members, to which the answer is also very similar. How long until Battlefield 2042 comes to EA Play? Using previous Battlefield games as an example, Battlefield V was released on September 4, 2018, and EA announced on June 8, 2019, that Battlefield 2042 would be available to play on EA Play. This represents a 9-month gap between the game’s release and it being added to the library. Going off of this logic, we could maybe expect to see Battlefield 2042 come to EA Play at some point during August 2022. Obviously, we’ll need to wait for an official announcement from EA, and if that happens, we’ll be sure to update this guide with all the details. • The best way to use the Recon class in Battlefield V – Dexerto

The best way to use the Recon class in Battlefield V DICE/EAThe Recon class in Battlefield V is the absolute best choice for being able to clear enemies off a position in a quick snap without the dangers of close-quarters combat. Being posted up around each of the Battlefield V maps means you will, at some point, run into someone running the Recon class. They are the deadly operators of the game with their one-bullet kill potential – with both bolt action rifles and self-loading rifles – and ability to crack open enemy defences by calling out the positions of the opposing team to their comrades. The main weapons for Recon are all excellent from range but can also be lethal from short distances, provided they’re in the right hands. Couple that with the ability to spot enemies, create spawn options and protect themselves with explosives and it makes for a deadly class. From the get-go, the Recon class will have two Combat Roles whilst a further two will be added – to all classes – on December 4th with the beginning of Tides of War. The two starting roles will be the “Sniper” and “Pathfinder” options. Sniper is the base role and will be available on release whilst progressing to level eight will unlock Pathfinder. Sniper will give the player two traits to play with. “Steady Hands” provides the class with the ability to keep their aim steadier whilst holding their breath and looking down the scope. “Expert Marksman” will extend the duration of the steadying breath with each headshot gained. Pathfinder, unlocked at level eight, has two traits of its own. “Advance Scouting” will give the ability to spawn on other squad leaders and spawn beacons on their team. “Vanguard” offers up more points for every player that spawns on the Recon’s own spawn beacon. The table below lays out the weapons for each class and at which level they are unlocked: The gadgets for the class begin with a ‘spotting scope’ to better see enemies and a flare gun, unlocked at level four, which will display a plume of smoke on an area after being shot. Other gadgets in the class include the ‘bouncing betty bomb’ which, if placed correctly, will stop an enemy push of the recon’s position. The other gadgets also include the aforementioned spawn beacon and the new ‘sniper decoy’ which will allow the player to place a decoy position to lure enemies. Grenades, as ever, are vital in Battlefield and the Recon will have access to a frag grenade and a throwing knife from the start and will unlock a smoke grenade at level two.

  • Symfuhny & BrookeAB lose it during botched Battlefield 2042 sponsored stream – Dexerto

Symfuhny & BrookeAB lose it during botched Battlefield 2042 sponsored stream DICE EA / BrookeAB Twitch / Symfuhny InstragramTwitch streamers BrookeAB and Symfuhny couldn’t help but notice how broken Battlefield 2042 was during a live sponsored Crown Arcade stream featuring DICE EA’s FPS. Along with Krystalogy, the trio of streamers were having a friendly competition in the $1000 Crown Arcade event to see who could net the most kills. The two-hour affair went mostly without a hitch until it neared its end. As the last game was about to wrap, the squad spawned on each other just to find they were stuck under some stairs with seemingly no way to free themselves. The trio and Crown Arcade host were pros for not breaking during the show, but it was apparent they all noticed the grim state of the sponsored game. BF 2042 breaks live on stream Every streamer was aware of what was happening. As soon as BrookeAB respawned, she had to cut herself off before pointing out the glitched gameplay. For at least a minute, all four were broadcasting the bug while skirting the fact that BF 2042 was broken before their eyes. Symfuhny was stuck in that spot for about half a minute and was stealing glances away from the camera to hide his smile. BrookeAB stayed silent throughout the ordeal and Krystalogy was doing her best to keep the show’s dialogue going as their gameplay fizzled live on stream. Unfortunately, even Twitch chat wasn’t blind to what was happening on stream. “Why weren’t his textures loading,” one person asked, while another called the game “Battlefield 2077” in reference to the botched launch of Cyberpunk 2077. The moment served as a reminder of the state BF 2042 finds itself in mere months after it was released. The Battlefield 2042 player count has hit critical levels in population as angry buyers demand refunds in light of its shaky build. This has brought up conversations on whether DICE can save BF 2042 at this point as they contend with the title’s growing problems.

  • Summit1g praises Battlefield 2042 for using popular Apex Legends feature – Dexerto

Summit1g praises Battlefield 2042 for using popular Apex Legends feature Twitch: summit1gTwitch star Jaryd ‘Summit1g’ Lazar reacted to the Battlefield 2042 trailer and was clearly blown away, he even praised the devs for implementing a feature from Apex Legends. The June 9 reveal of Battlefield 2042 had every FPS fan on the edge of their seat as DICE revealed that the next installment in the franchise was going to take place in the modern era. With details on Specialists, maps & modes, and a confirmed release date, EA certainly wasn’t holding back when it came to showing off their upcoming shooter. The developers even released a gameplay trailer at E3 2021, showing off what players can expect to experience in a typical match. Numerous content creators have shared their opinion on the title, with Dr Disrespect praising the trailer and Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek revealing there’s more exciting news to come about the game. Now, Summit1g has reacted to Battlefield 2042’s gameplay on stream and pointed out a popular feature the devs have taken from Apex Legends. Summit1g praises Battlefield devs for Apex Legends feature As fans of his content will know, Summit loves playing FPS games, but he’s up given up with likes of Warzone and Apex Legends. A lot of his fans want him to pick up Battlefield as soon as it comes out and based on his first impressions, it seems very likely that he will. It was obvious from the start that he was impressed with the gameplay, and he even took a jab at Warzone after seeing a stadium in one of the maps. “That’s f***ing insane… what the f**k, that looks like Stadium from Warzone, I have PTSD,” he said on his June 13 stream. Despite this, it was only in the latter half of the trailer that Summit began to get incredibly excited. The streamer spotted a feature that the devs had taken from Apex Legends and implemented into Battlefield, this being the various zip lines scattered across the map. He even took the time to praise DICE for taking inspiration from another title and using it to improve Battlefield’s overall gameplay experience. “They took a little taste of Apex and were like, why should we not have that in Battlefield… I’m with that, I’m with that, I’m feeling that, Battlefield’s got my attention.” It’s hard to find any content creator on YouTube or Twitch that wasn’t completely blown away by the Battlefield 2042 gameplay trailer. DICE knows how important it is for streamers to be interested in their game and having the likes of Summit, Shroud, and Dr Disrespect on their side already is an incredible start.

  • Streamer Picks Up “At Least 10” Kills With Insane V-1 Rocket Play on Battlefield V – Dexerto

Streamer Picks Up “At Least 10” Kills With Insane V-1 Rocket Play on Battlefield V Twitch streamer Hadz decided to test out what the V-1 Rocket in Battlefield V is capable of and the result was nothing short of spectacular! Numerous Twitch streamers got the chance to test out the Closed Alpha version of Battlefield V, which ended on July 3rd, as part of a partnership with the game’s publisher, EA. The game has received criticism from some members of the gaming community due to various historical inaccuracies. but the core gameplay seems to have been relatively well received by the people that have had the chance to play it. Players have experimented with various weapons and styles of play, and one of the most successful ones so far came when Hadz decided to find out what the V-1 Rocket can do. The V-1 Rocket is part of the new Squad Reinforcement system which works like a killstreak, or scorestreak, system for entire squads and rewards teams for playing together. Unsure of what damage the V-1 Rocket could dish out on a team that was camping in the lower part of one of the maps, Hadz called a strike in and was rewarded with an incredible number of kills: Hadz was clearly shocked by the level of destruction from the flying bomb, exclaiming “I can’t tell you how many kills I just got there”. When pushed for a figure by his teammate, the Twitch streamer simply says “at least 10, at least 10.” If the skulls on the screen are to be believed, he actually picked up a total of 12 kills. However, we’re unsure if all eliminations are shown on the screen with such an insane multi-kill, so take that with a pinch of salt!

  • Steam issues refunds for Battlefield 2042 as player count plummets – Dexerto

Steam issues refunds for Battlefield 2042 as player count plummets EA DICE, SteamBattlefield 2042’s downward spiral continues, leading Steam to break its own rules and provide frustrated fans with a full refund. The launch of Battlefield 2024 was incredibly troubled, as months of ill-fated rumors came to fruition. Lacking vital features that were intended to enhance the game, players are now dropping EA DICE’s latest installment completely in favor of older titles. To add salt to the wound, online games retailer Steam appears to be breaking its own policies to make peace with upset players. Steam breaks their policy for Battlefield 2042 Steam will allow users to apply for a refund for a recently purchased game, within the parameters of their policy requirements. While having purchased the game within 14 days and less than two hours of gameplay are normally fundamental requirements, Steam is bending its own rules to appease disgruntled Battlefield 2042 fans. The Battlefield 2042 player count continues to drastically plummet, reaching a brutal low of under 9,000 players. November saw a player peak of 100,00 but it has dropped in vast increments over the remainder of 2021 into 2022. “PlayStation won’t refund. Lucky PC players” said Redditor Dangerous-Case9544. The move is incredibly bizarre for Steam, but players are seeing it as a sign of Battlefield 2042’s failure: “The fact that STEAM ITSELF had to bend its policy from how poor this game did, shows just how badly they did.” “I’m really bothered I can’t get a refund. Haven’t played the game since November, man. What a f****** disappointment” added Redditor NaughtyNaughtyMod. Battlefield 2042 isn’t fairing well when it comes to user reviews either, as the game continues to be slammed by players. With over 80,00 reviews live on Steam, the critical consensus has seen a “mostly negative” rating applied to the game. “You don’t care anymore and have milked enough out of what was originally a classic game that we would all spend 100s of hours on,” said Steam user MattyCamps in his scathing review. The future remains uncertain for Battlefield 2042’s redemption.

  • Shroud’s insane squad wipe in Battlefield V proves his FPS dominance – Dexerto

Shroud’s insane squad wipe in Battlefield V proves his FPS dominance It should be considered one of the laws of physics that Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek dominates nearly every game he gets his hands on. The latest example of this came when the popular Twitch streamer was playing Battlefield V, the latest installment of EA’s popular Battlefield series. Using great tactical awareness, positioning, and movement, Shroud went on an insane kill stream and wiped out the entire opposite team, and then some. Shroud was playing on PC, and he put his impressive mouse and keyboard skill on full display in his kill streak, shredding through enemy players with a sniper rifle and pistol. Perhaps the most amazing thing about the whole sequence is the fact that almost all of his kills with the sniper came at short to medium range, yet again proving that Shroud’s hand-eye coordination is a force to be reckoned with. Shroud doesn’t play Battlefield V often; now he’s usually found dominating Call of Duty’s new Blackout battle royale mode. However, it’s been now proven yet again that he doesn’t necessarily need to play games much to be one of the best at them. He’s likely preparing himself for Battlefield’s new BR mode that’s set to release in the coming months, which he’ll probably be a master of as well. Since retiring from professionally competing in CounterStrike: Global Offensive, Shroud has made a name for himself as one of the faces of the BR genre, finding success in PUBG, Fortnite, and now Blackout. Once Battlefield’s BR mode does release, fans should expect Shroud to play a fair bit amount of it, even if it’s just for the sake of trying it out. If he manages to play as well in that as he does in the Multiplayer mode, then there should be some more juicy Shroud clips coming soon.

  • Shroud slams Battlefield 2042 gameplay for “rewarding” bad players – Dexerto

Shroud slams Battlefield 2042 gameplay for “rewarding” bad players Twitch: Shroud / EAMichael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek slammed the amount of “bloom” in Battlefield 2042’s gameplay, describing it as a “weird” feature that ultimately rewards bad players over good ones. Shroud’s had mixed feelings about Battlefield 2042 since he started playing it during the early access period. He’s praised some aspects. For example, he described the Portal mode as the “highlight” of the game. He even had a wonderful time showcasing what he believes is the “most broken” vehicle in the game. However, he’s been critical of others. He believes the Hazard Mode could do with a bit of a rework to make it more suitable for players wanting to unlock weapons and attachments. Now, he’s revealed some concerns about the overall gameplay, too. More specifically, he thinks the excessive use of “bloom” – a feature that adds an element of unpredictability into shooting, rewards bad players. “The game has a lot of bloom on rifles. Not just on rifles, but most things,” he said. For that reason, he believes guns that have less bloom, including SMGs and DMRs, are more dominant than assault rifles at the moment. His comments drew a reaction from a fan who said: “I’d rather have bloom than some nerd lasering me from across the map.” Shroud responded, saying, “See, that’s exactly why they did it. So that people like you could have a fair chance. I get it. It makes sense. It just doesn’t feel very good. It rewards worse players, which is kind of weird. I just don’t agree with it.” He explained that he’s “fine” with the developer’s decision to make it a feature and insisted they “don’t have to change it.” It’s not going to stop him from playing. He just doesn’t like the idea of “making better players worse.” Despite his claims about bloom in Battlefield 2042, shroud is still a formidable force in any given lobby. On November 15, a clip of him taking down an entire squad, including a helicopter pilot, went viral. However, he’s still convinced that the amount of bloom in Battlefield 2042 is holding him back, and wants DICE to change the gun feature.

  • Shroud showcases the “most broken” vehicle in Battlefield 2042 – Dexerto

Shroud showcases the “most broken” vehicle in Battlefield 2042 EA / Twitch: ShroudAfter diving into Battlefield 2042 during the early access period, Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek has come to the conclusion that the Hovercraft is the “most broken” vehicle in the game, explaining why on stream. Shroud has been taking a break from the New World to grind to get back to doing what he does best — farming lobbies in first-person shooters. Battlefield 2042 has been his game of choice this week, and he’s been sharing his thoughts on it. He has some concerns, particularly with the Hazard Zone mode. However, he was a huge fan of the Portal mode, which allows players to create custom modes and environments based on existing Battlefield content. In his latest playthrough, though, he claims to have discovered the “most broken” vehicle in the game. It’s not something massive like a tank or a helicopter. Instead, it’s none other than a crafty little hovercraft. In the midst of battle, shroud piloted the Hovercraft and used it with his crew to wreak havoc on enemy players. They mowed down unsuspecting victims, dodged missiles, and even made a clutch getaway on water. After pulling off one insane play after another, shroud eventually decided that it was the most broken vehicle in the game. “Yeah, this thing is the most broken vehicle in the game, truly,” he said. “Like, it’s not fair. I don’t know why it’s balanced this way. I don’t know. There’s a lot of whys and ifs. Who made this? This thing is busted.” Shroud isn’t the only person who thinks the hovercraft is broken. Other players have discovered that you can use it to drive up walls and buildings. It could be changed before the game’s release though — it’s important to note that Battlefield 2042 is currently in early access. The official launch is happening on November 19.

  • Shroud reveals biggest concerns about Battlefield 2042 Portal – Dexerto

Shroud reveals biggest concerns about Battlefield 2042 Portal EA / Twitch: shroudMichael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek, ex-CS:GO pro turned Twitch streamer, has voiced his concerns over Battlefield 2042’s innovative Portal mode, suggesting it could affect the core gameplay if not implemented correctly. Battlefield 2042’s Portal mode has been widely praised as innovative, allowing fans of the series to implement their favorite series content into a new, futuristic game. The sandbox mode means players have full creative control when merging old games’ content with the new stuff the 2021 title will bring to the table. Warzone players have even suggested Raven implement something similar, reflecting just how popular the idea is. Shroud, though, is less taken with the mode, and has some serious concerns about its wider implications in Battlefield 2042. At the end of a long stream, shroud explained his fears that it will lead to clashing tones and gameplay elements. “Battlefield Portal could be really really cool,” he said, “or it could be just not enough. I don’t know which one it’s going to be… Because there’s a very very good chance you start messing too much with the core of the game, and Battlefield might not like that. So I’m really curious how deep you can dive into Portal.” Shroud’s point is a fair one – bringing back certain elements of the series could satisfy players’ nostalgia, but it could also clash with newer gameplay that 2042 is trying to promote. Ultimately, the content from older games was designed for those titles, and not Battlefield 2042. “I know you can’t edit maps, I know that much,” he finished. “I know you’re not able to add your own assets. In a perfect world, Battlefield Portal would be that. It’d be so cool to be able to make your own maps in Battlefield Portal… but that won’t happen. So you’ll have to use the base Battlefield maps. Which, alright, fine. I have no idea how Battlefield Portal is truly gonna be.” It’s something of a tightrope for the devs to walk, but shroud is more reserved than most at this early stage.

  • Shroud explains why he “probably won’t enjoy” Battlefield V Firestorm – Dexerto

Shroud explains why he “probably won’t enjoy” Battlefield V Firestorm EA Dice / ShroudTwitch streamer Battlefield V Firestorm, but wasn’t completely sold by what he was seeing. Firestorm was announced in September 2018 but has experienced major setbacks along its way to being released. The company has since been tight-lipped about the project until a trailer found its way onto the internet revealing more about where the game is heading. While watching the trailer, shroud liked that Firestorm was taking traditional elements from Battlefield’s combat and applying them to the battle royale setting, but was apprehensive once he saw that another major feature would also be coming to the game. Even though shroud will approach Firestorm with hopeful expectations, he thinks that the inclusion of certain vehicles could spoil the fun if the battle royale puts too much of an emphasis on them. Read more: When is Battlefield V Firestorm coming? BF5 Battle Royale leaked footage, rumors and more – “The thing is I love Battlefield’s gunplay, it’s so fun,” shroud said. “So if Battlefield BR has enough of its gunplay and its not focused on fuckin tanks, then I’m down.” (Timestamp at 3:26 for mobile viewers) The leaked trailer revealed numerous vehicles that will make their way to Firestorm such as helicopters, jeeps, tanks and more. It seems like vehicles could play a big part in Firestorm’s formula, which made shroud approach with much caution after seeing the armored vehicle prominently featured in the trailer, saying: “if [Firestorm] has too much focus on tanks and tanks are the primary focus of BR then I probably won’t enjoy it.” While Firestorm is still in active development, it seems EA Dice already has some feedback to pull from in order to attract one of Twitch’s largest streamers.

  • Shroud posts ridiculous 100 kill round in Battlefield V – Dexerto

Shroud posts ridiculous 100 kill round in Battlefield V Battlefield V has been out for less than two weeks and already Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek has broken the 100 kills in a round mark. The former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pro player, who is ridiculously good at any first-person shooter game he touches, recently joked that he was cheating at the game because he was so good. This new clip may back up his own bold claim. Shroud, alongside former Cloud9 teammate Tyler ‘Skadoodle’ Latham, is playing the Conquest game mode on the map Devastation when he begins mowing down enemies. Pushing the Library flag, Shroud gets closer and closer to the 100 kill mark with Skadoodle calling out how many more enemies are around him and Shroud’s chat also joining in with their own countdown. Shroud gets his final four kills in quick succession – firstly spraying down an enemy pushing him to the right, before quickly transferring to killing the one pushing him from the left. The former C9 star quickly bails out of the firefight to reload before heading back in for his final two kills. He heads back to the right with Skadoodle calling out the last two kills he needs. Shroud finishes off an already damaged enemy before killing another who is doing their best to run away from the action with only seconds left before the round comes to a close. Shroud gets the kill he needs to hit the 100 mark and celebrates, letting out a relieved: “Yes, yes, on the fucking money. Let’s go! Wooo.” The 100 kills overshadows an equally impressive round that Skadoodles pull out with the CS:GO Major winner tallying 72 kills. Shroud’s mark more than doubles the third-placed player on his team who has added 49 kills of their own. The full VoD is available on Shroud’s Twitch channel with the ridiculous round beginning at the 3 hour 30 minute mark.

  • Shroud is so good at Battlefield V even he thinks he’s cheating – Dexerto

Shroud is so good at Battlefield V even he thinks he’s cheating Battlefield V released on Thursday, November 15, but Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek is already so good at the game, even he thinks he might be cheating. The former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player was teaming up with long-time duo Tyler ‘Skadoodle’ Latham on the brand new first person shooter game from DICE and EA. The pair were playing the Conquest gamemode on Aerodrome, when shroud pulled off a stunning clip that proved he is a force to be reckoned with on any FPS title. Grzesiek and his team found themselves hunkered down inside a plane hanger, with enemy troops converging on their position as they attempted to break through their defence and capture one of the four control points on the map. With explosives raining down, shroud pulled out his sniper rifle, and picked an enemy off as he tried to run through a door. The Canadian then spun around, and quickscoped an enemy he couldn’t even see through some smoke, joking: “Oh my God, I’m literally cheating.” Shroud, however, wasn’t finished. The former Cloud9 star was able to kill three more enemies with headshots, before pulling out his pistol to finish off a fourth, taking his impressive spree to six. While shroud is currently playing Battlefield V, his incredible performances on Call of Duty’s battle royale Blackout saw him become recognized as one of the game mode’s best players, with crazy kill streaks and more incredible sniping. Players are already trying to perfect their Battlefield V skills, and our handy guides into the game’s classes such as Support and Recon are the perfect way to make sure you’re giving your team the best chance at securing victory.
