Baldur’s Gate 3 players report save wiping bug on Xbox Series X/S Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players have discovered a bug on the Xbox Series X/S version of the game that wipes save files, making players lose hours of progress. The Baldur’s Gate 3 community is warning players on console to pause their playthroughs on Xbox after several people reported that their save files had been wiped from the device. Xbox was the most recent platform for the game to launch on, arriving to the console on the 8th December 2023. This bug has not been reported on any other platforms. Larian Studios responded to the reports by providing a stability fix update for Xbox users, saying that they were “aware of the issue of saves disappearing after a crash.” They advised players that “an update is available from Xbox to help with some of these issues, please manually update your Xbox through the system menu.” Baldur’s Gate 3 players warn of save file bug on Xbox version Baldur’s Gate 3 forums saw a large increase in reports of missing save files, many of which showed that players had lost significant progress in the game. One player on the Baldur’s Gate subreddit said: “You might want to put your playthrough on hold until they fix this bug. A few days ago I got wiped at about 12 hours and could only find a few other people online with the same issue so I figured it was either an issue on my end somehow or a VERY rare bug. “As time passed significantly more people are reporting save wipes and missing saves as well as every single one of my friends losing their saves as well.” Another player said: “Went to continue by playthrough and most of my saves are gone. It only shows I have 2 save files when I had more… I’ve lost about 5 hours of progress.” Larian Studios have been quick to respond to these kinds of issues in the past, and have said they are working on fixes now. Baldur’s Gate 3 players relish using hated character as “improvised” weapon – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players relish using hated character as “improvised” weapon Larian StudiosThe Baldur’s Gate 3 community has fallen in love with being able to use one of the most hated characters as a weapon. Baldur’s Gate 3 continues to amaze players by offering an incredible amount of ways to get creative in just about every way. Being able to defeat a seemingly insurmountable boss or using the ability to transform into a cat to get through a locked door are just examples of what can be done in the game. Now, Baldur’s Gate 3 fans have found a way to use one of the most hated characters as a physical weapon, and they love it. Baldur’s Gate 3 fans love using hated character as impromptu weapon A conversation is going on over on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit with the following title: “TIL you can use [redacted] as an improvised weapon.” In the body of the post, they reveal how they discovered they can use Cloud Giant Strength to pick up Raphael and use him as an actual weapon. “It’s very satisfying to repeatedly smash him into a pillar until it breaks and then toss him to the next one to repeat the process.” Many responses from the community are loving this idea, with one of the top comments thanking the poster for sharing this discovery: “… you do not realize how much I will bully Raphael in my third and fourth run now thanks to you.” Raphael is an antagonistic character that players interact with throughout the game, and while the character is a favorite in the story, it’s very much a “love to hate” situation. Since he’s so diabolical, the community is appreciative of returning the favor through this method, as one user says: “This is diabolical. To do this to him in his OWN HOUSE too.” Baldur’s Gate 3 continues to impress its players with just how much freedom it gives them to do whatever they want.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players rejoice as Patch 7 gives companions “incredible” detail – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players rejoice as Patch 7 gives companions “incredible” detail Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3’s Patch 7 didn’t just add new evil endings. There’s a particular detail that a lot of players love. Baldur’s Gate 3 has no doubt introduced us to some of the most iconic and memorable characters in gaming. With the addition of Patch 7, not only did some of them get additional content, there are also a ton of fixes to smoothen out the experience with players. While that’s the case, it’s no secret that some players think certain companions got the short end of the stick. One example is how players have been begging for Minthara’s “almost nonexistent” romance to be fixed. While it may not be the romance they were hoping for, since Patch 7, fans in a Reddit thread have noticed one detail that’s been added to the character. That’s none other than new spell voice lines. Before this update, using spells with certain companions would just show the spell-casting animation. You can still cast spells like usual, regardless of your class or build; it’s just that they do it in silence – which can feel a bit weird if you’re used to pulling off a satisfying Eldritch Blast or something similar. Now, thanks to the newest update, players can enjoy hearing Minthara utter the spell voice lines like the origin companions, adding more to the immersion. Others have noticed this is also the case with Minsc and Halsin, leading them to praise the new detail. Following the discovery, one user commented: “Minthara’s Warlock spell lines are awesome. I’d pay Emma Gregory to read me a phone book.” Meanwhile, another user who admitted they’ve never noticed this wrote: “Oh, the things in Patch 7 just keep getting better and better! Thank you for bringing my attention to this detail since I didn’t register it, now I can appreciate it fully.” “This is such great news; I had to drop her in my most recent run because I just couldn’t stand the silence. The spell-casting voice lines are incredible,” a player chimed in. Overall, this looks like a welcome change in the game that players appreciate.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players rejoice as His Majesty is shaved again – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players rejoice as His Majesty is shaved again Larian StudiosLarian Studios has responded to Baldur’s Gate 3 fan complaints over a change to a previously hairless cat by restoring His Majesty to his original bald glory – and players are thrilled. Baldur’s Gate 3’s recent Patch 3 was easily the acclaimed game’s most controversial yet. In addition to introducing a new inventory system in which Companions would give the player all their belongings when dismissed, players encountered new bugs and widely disliked aesthetic changes. Perhaps most upsetting of all was the fan-favorite cat, His Majesty, suddenly getting fur. Fortunately, developer Larian Studios has heard the fan outcry and rectified the situation by shaving His Majesty in Baldur’s Gate 3’s latest Hotfix. Baldur’s Gate 3’s His Majesty is back to being a Sphynx cat Since launch, the Sphynx cat His Majesty has been celebrated for his sassiness and cat-accurate sense of superiority, which led one player to call him “the most cat that ever catted.” Many were furious when Patch 3 gave him fur to distinguish him from an identical cat named Steelclaw. Now that the change has been reversed, though, players are celebrating. When Faerûn was in its hour of need, our mighty Majesty has returned to us! LONG MAY HE REIGN! pic.twitter.com/LXJPuJEhll — MadKingCryptid (@MadKingCryptid) October 3, 2023 One fan even showed their own hairless cat appreciating His Majesty in all his hairless glory. Me and my daughter Dea thank you for bringing justice to the world of Faerun again! 🩷🙌🏻 — 𝕰𝕸 (@U53R3RR0R) October 3, 2023 📷: @Tynnyrihide pic.twitter.com/apGLnFWMKp In addition to reverting His Majesty to his original design, Larian has addressed the similarity to Steelclaw by changing the latter cat’s eye color. The latest Hotfix also reverses other controversial Patch 3 changes, such as the shared inventory system. All in all, the adjustment to His Majesty is another sign that Larian is really listening to the Baldur’s Gate 3 community and is willing to incorporate that feedback – even if it means walking back unpopular changes. Baldur’s Gate 3 players regret not using the game’s most “awesome” ability – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players regret not using the game’s most “awesome” ability Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players have realized that there was a very useful ability that they completely forgot to use before beating the game. There are a lot of things to remember in Baldur’s Gate 3, whether it be the characters and story that attracted so many to the game, or a piece of equipment, an item found on the player’s long and arduous journey. This can include abilities as well, as some players just simply forget to use them when the situation arises. Such is the case with one powerful ability of Shadowheart’s that the Baldur’s Gate 3 community is now realizing they never used. Baldur’s Gate 3 players never used a powerful ability A post was recently made on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, entitled: “Who else completely forgot to use Shadowheart’s…” The post explains how they never used the Divine Intervention of Shadowheart’s, which calls in a god-like being to assist in a battle. “Was planning it all out in my head, calling in all my reinforcements, imagining this awesome angelic divine intervention warrior angel smiting everything or something.” Unfortunately, that never happened and they finished the game without it. Looks like the rest of the community has experienced a similar situation, as many users share their own stories: “One of these days I’m gonna start a run with only using consumables, just to see if I can manage to train myself to use the damn things.” Divine Intervention is not the only thing that Baldur’s Gate 3 players have forgotten about either, as one fan describes that they also forgot to use the Runepowder Bomb for three consecutive playthroughs. It is all the common mistake that RPG players make: keep an item because it’ll be useful later on, but then never end up using it. The thought process is perfectly summed up by one user: “‘I’m sure I’ll need this eventually.’” An unfortunate mistake, but one that at least doesn’t seem to have prevented anyone from actually finishing the game.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players reconsider unpopular companion after hilarious interaction – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players reconsider unpopular companion after hilarious interaction Larian StudiosThe Baldur’s Gate 3 community is revisiting its opinion on one of the game’s less popular companions after uncovering some great interactions. Not every companion in Baldur’s Gate 3 is born equal. For every instantly-beloved Astarion and Shadowheart in the cast, there’s a couple of NPCs who fell by the wayside, and none of them have fallen quite as hard as Halsin. The druid has always struggled with popularity, despite being a big part of camp life. His lack of an engaging quest beyond Act 2, combined with some strange romantic approaches means he never quite got the star treatment of some of the other companions in the game. It even got to the point where players wished he had been replaced with Alfira, a fan-favorite NPC. However, there’s a lot more to him that meets the eye, and in Act 2, Halsin comes into his own so he can deal with the shadow curse. It’s here that his interactions with the rest of the cast get good, and some of them have players wondering if Halsin was badly treated when the game first came out. Baldur’s Gate 3 players think they might have judged Halsin too harshly One player posted on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, admitting that: “maybe I judged Halsin too harshly”, showing an interaction he has with Shadowheart in Act 2 when he discusses the shadow curse with her. Baldur’s Gate 3 players make a lot of excuses for morally ambiguous women, but this was one of the rare occasions where the community sided against Shadowheart, with many players criticising her aggression. One player in the replies said: “Halsin’s reaction was so tame relative to what he was probably feeling, I honestly woulda taken Tavern Brawler to hit her with the chancla for that.” Another said: “At first, I thought she was making a joke to try to lighten up the mood, which is why I found it weird that Halsin just basically told her to shut up. When I realized she was mocking him and mocking all the deaths in that place, I saw how absolutely controlled Halsin is.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 players realize why Wyll is so romantic – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players realize why Wyll is so romantic Larian StudiosWyll is one of the most romantic characters in Baldur’s Gate 3 and is a fan-favorite among players. As it happens, fans have realized the reason behind his exceptional senses when it comes to romance. The discussion surrounding this topic was initiated by a Reddit user who stated, “His ideas of a relationship are not coming from personal experience, he wants to do things the traditional way, and given that he is not joining your party married, its a safe assumption to say that things were not working out for him.” They continued, “He is a TWENTY FOUR YEAR OLD trying to figure out an adult relationship that has been, probably, his only relationship. He sounds like he is straight out of a romance novel because THAT IS WHERE HE IS GETTING IT ALL FROM.” They also mentioned, “I love Wyll, he is a down bad sweetheart just trying to make his books come to life, its not going to be as in-depth as a relationship with someone 15 years older than him, but is still lovely.” Several players joined the conversation as they found this description lovely and wholesome. One such user commented, “I think Wyll mentions in some dialogue it has been 8 years since he took Mizora’s deal. She pretty much nabbed him as an impressionable teenager, hence her condescending baby-talk manner towards him.” Another user chimed in, “I agree with you OP, I really really really want Larian to buff Wyll’s story a bit more. I would love a full cut scene of the events that lead to his pact, I think it would be epic.” One player also mentioned, “Oh yeah, maybe it’s because I’m twice Wyll’s age irl, but I can never not judge his character based on his traumatic backstory.” Finally, one of the players stated, “When Wyll and Shadowheart started quoting that book in act 3 it threw me off so hard I had to stop and let them talk.” Therefore, it is safe to mention that players agree with what the user of the original post had to say. Without spoiling anything, Mizora treats Wyll like her pet and makes him suffer a lot in the game. Therefore, he never had a proper relationship, and his ideals are very traditional as written in romance novels. Therefore, Wyll is very traditional and is simply a victim of Mizora.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players realize they’ve been nerfing themselves for hundreds of hours – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players realize they’ve been nerfing themselves for hundreds of hours Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players are finally learning how non-lethal attacks actually impact the game and some powerful skills. Players have the option to turn on non-lethal attacks via a toggle in the combat and skills UI. As the name suggests, it makes it so that foes fall at 1 HP, but stay alive instead of outright dying when defeated. This can have some story consequences, notably being essential for recruiting Minthara in a non-evil playthrough. However, players have finally learned just how non-lethal attacks can impact other aspects of gameplay in logical, though non-obvious, ways. Responding to a Reddit user who asked about the purpose of turning off non-lethal attacks, players were quick to point out that some abilities and item effects only trigger if you kill an enemy, such as the Fiend Warlock class feature Dark One’s Blessing and Bloodlust Elixirs. It also impacts another toggleable passive ability: Cull the Weak. This is triggered when lowering a creature’s HP to lower the number of evolved illithid powers the user has, causing the target to die and inflicting 1d4 psychic damage on all nearby enemies. This powerful illithid power is considered among the best in the entire game and is a crucial part of various character builds and tricks. Since foes cannot normally die when non-lethal attacks are on, it seems the game toggles off Cull the Weak automatically. This came as a shock to some players, with one saying, “Oh, THATS why COTW randomly switches off for me. 200 hours in the game and have always been so confused why it sometimes disabled itself.” “Holy s*** same, I thought it was something to do with the control scheme,” said another. This makes clear that what some may assume is a bug is actually Baldur’s Gate 3 working as intended – and that turning non-lethal attacks off and on has a greater effect than you may think.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players realize one companion needs more love – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players realize one companion needs more love Larian StudiosOne of Baldur’s Gate 3’s strongest selling points is the number of companions and storylines you can get invested in, but do any of them need a little extra love? Between your engaging camp followers and the wide range of NPC side quests in Baldur’s Gate 3, you can hardly move a few steps without finding another character to obsess over. Everyone has their preferences, and several of the most well-known party members have emerged as clear fan favorites, such as Shadowheart and Astarion. However, it was inevitable that some characters wouldn’t get as much love, which has led to players who like them calling on the community to show a bit more appreciation. One of the game’s main party members has been the biggest recipient of this, and to everyone’s surprise, it’s not Halsin. Baldur’s Gate 3 players want Lae’zel to get more recognition One player who enjoyed Lae’zel’s storyline took to the official Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit to describe why the Githyanki was deserving of more attention. They said: “I was surprised to learn that early on she was one of the least liked characters. She’s one of the pragmatic characters and whereas other characters let their morals control them and think they’re morally better, Lae’zel is all about the end goal and pivots quite a bit. “She’s still flawed and picks another cause to champion but seeing her change, how can you not like her?” One player suggested that she was less popular than other characters as opinions were largely based on first interactions when the game first launched, as that was when most players decided who the best characters were. “I think sentiment for Lae’zel has changed drastically now that BG3 has been out for a bit. She has one of the best redemption arcs of the game In my opinion,” they commented. Sadly, there doesn’t seem to be a redemption arc for Halsin just yet. Baldur’s Gate 3 players realize iconic NPC is actually a centaur – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players realize iconic NPC is actually a centaur Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players have discovered a little-known quirk about one of Act 2’s most recognizable NPCs, even though it was on clear display the whole time. There’s a lot going on in Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3. With the shadow curse looming and Ketheric’s plans in motion, there’s a lot distracting you from the real questions, like: How many feet does this character have? Given all this, it’s understandable that some players weren’t paying a whole ton of attention when speaking to Thisobald, the brewer at the cozy little inn next to Moonrise Towers. In between the very generous pints that he pours you, you might not have noticed that he’s actually remarkably stable for someone who’s at least 60% alcohol. His secret? He’s actually walking around on four legs! It’s not much of a secret if you’re paying attention, but that booze is pretty strong, and if you want to beat Thisobald without fighting him, you probably won’t see his rear end at all. Baldur’s Gate 3 players clock that Act 2’s Thisobald is actually four-legged One player on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit posted the full model of Thisobald, showing his full centaur-like physique. And to be fair, if you’re only ever speaking to the guy face to face, you probably wouldn’t notice his extra feet. Thisobald’s well-rounded structure means it’s a little hard to look past his stomach. Some players theorized that he ended up with the extra legs because of the shadow curse, with one comment reading: “His lower half is that of a pig which I think is more of the curse turning them into what their biggest sin captures best.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 players realize Astarion is actually just a boomer – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players realize Astarion is actually just a boomer Larian StudiosAstarion is a fan-favorite unit in Baldur’s Gate 3, but he is also quite old. An interaction between Astarion and Wyll led to fans realizing that the former is just a boomer. The discussion surrounding the topic was initiated by a Reddit user who posted a screenshot of an interaction between Astarion and Wyll. In this, Wyll makes a comment towards Astarion being two centuries old. Astarion finds this a bit insulting and makes a return comment stating that Wyll is a child. This user also made a caption stating, “I love the generational age differences in our companions.” This led to several fans joining in the conversation as Astarion’s boomer behavior is quite hilarious despite him being so popular in the community. One such commented, “Astarion is trying to live and Wyll is like lol ok boomer.” Another user chimed in, “Astarion is soooo mad about being called old too ahaha.” One user also mentioned, “Wyll is a zoomer, Astarion is like, WW1 generation, their interactions is basically like your great great great great grandfather.” Finally, one of the users stated, “ I really wish I had used Will more. This is amazing banter.” Therefore, players found this interaction quite funny as Astarion feeling insulted over being called old makes the character feel alive. However, that is also one of the charms of Astarion that makes players fall for him whenever they play Baldur’s Gate 3.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players react to hilariously difficult new Honor Mode – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players react to hilariously difficult new Honor Mode Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players have been sharing their experiences trying out the new Honor Mode in Baldur’s Gate 3, with some players struggling to get past the prologue. Baldur’s Gate 3 has been maintaining its popularity due to the game’s insane replayability, and Larian Studios’ commitment to giving players quality-of-life updates. Larian Studios has added another new feature to their game, called Honor Mode, which serves as an extra step-up in difficulty from the game’s three regular modes: Explorer, Normal, and Tactician. Honor Mode brings new challenges even to veteran players of RPGs, introducing stronger bosses with more health and only a single save file available to players, meaning they can’t erase the bad choices they make. Player have shared their experiences with the new difficulty mode introduced in Patch 5 to Baldur’s Gate 3. Players react to “Brutal” Baldur’s Gate 3 mode One player wondered if others had been struggling with the new mode as much as they had, detailing the challenges they’d faced with their level 2 party: “Honor Mode is brutal.“ Players were worried that the difficulty would prove too hard, especially considering one of Larian Studios’ older titles Divinity Original Sin had a notoriously near-impossible Honor Mode. “If it’s anything like Divinity’s honor mode then I’m prepared to be humbled by every single fight. I hope Larian is keeping track of how many runs end at the intellect devourers after the crash lol,” one player nervously joked. Those who had already tested themselves against the challenges of Honor Mode let the community know that the new difficulty was indeed as tough as the community expected. “I lasted 25 minutes in my first go. Didn’t manage to hit level 2 after the crash, I was 9xp off and got smashed by the three intellect devourers you face from range,” one player said. But, despite this, players found it strangely satisfying after some found Tactician mode too easy. “10/10 will try again,” the same player admitted. This new Baldur’s Gate 3 difficulty mode arrived with a new epilogue added to the game by Larian Studios that they consider the game’s “final goodbye.“

Baldur’s Gate 3 players react to “expensive” Drow armor – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players react to “expensive” Drow armor Larian StudiosNot all armor is forged equally, as Baldur’s Gate 3 players have noticed a huge price discrepancy between different sets, despite them being nearly identical in terms of stats. The incredible success of cosmetic DLC in video games has proven that people will pay to look good, even in the digital realm. Even the developers of Baldur’s Gate 3 aren’t immune to this, as some of the clothing items from the Divinity games can only be acquired through more expensive editions. Luckily, PC players don’t have to worry about their edition, as there are tons of costume mods for Baldur’s Gate 3 that let you deck out your characters in much finer gear than you can find in-game. It seems the in-game merchants also have no problem charging more for aesthetics, as proven in a thread on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit. This is due to Drow Studded Leather costing 1000 gold pieces, while Leather Armor +1 costs 130, despite them having almost identical stats. “Everyone looks hot in Drow armour. That’s it. That’s the difference,” one user explained, while another said, “Sexiness is worth 870gp.” “Stats wise nothing. But the one on the right is “magic” armor while the one on the left is not,” another user wrote, “I’m not sure why the one on the left is blue / more rare because in the dm guide the one on the right would be worth more gold.” There is a small mechanical difference, but it only applies to a few classes. “The Drow armor does look better. But there is an edge case where it also works better. The way it’s coded, stealth +1 adds to your proficiency modifier, but the +1 bonus is +1 after the the calculation. “So if you have expertise in stealth (or maybe if you’re a bard) the Drow armor makes it +2 total. Small bonus, but at no cost.” In-universe, the price increase makes sense, considering Drow armor is extremely difficult to acquire. The fact that it’s strong despite being nonmagical would also be beneficial, as it could be enchanted even further. When it comes to metagaming and breaking down the numbers, then the extra few hundred gold doesn’t add up, even if it does make Astarion somehow even hotter than he already is.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players rank companions in order of stupidity – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players rank companions in order of stupidity Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 has several companions and not all of them are very smart when it comes to interaction and level of their intellect. As such, players have ranked the 10 most stupid companions in the game. The discussion surrounding this topic was initiated by a Reddit user who posted an image with the title “Top 10 stupidest BG3 characters, a definitive list.” Without spoiling the list too much, there are quite a few fan-favorite characters presented here including Shadowheart and Wyll. Naturally, a list like this is bound to gain attention as fans have opinions surrounding the entries as well as the ones missed out in the screenshot. One such fan commented, “My Wyll dissappeared after i recruited him and he never returned later. When mizora did her thing with him, he just spawned out of nowhere buttnaked, got his horns and disappeared again lmao.” Another user chimed in, “Aradin really comes off as peak “Is he stupid?”.” One user also commented, “Gondian Suicide Squad can take up all 10 positions.” Finally, one player also suggested, “Kagha deserves her own entry. She was working with the shadow druids to overthrow the grove and she can be convinced to turn on them in 20 seconds of dialogue.” Based on the comments from the players, there is little disagreement with the contents of the list. Rather, they had opinions on characters who also deserved to be in the list apart from the ones already mentioned. Regardless, it is safe to claim that the users took the list quite lightly and it was more about the humor aspect instead of being critical.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players question game’s “freaky” romance logic – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players question game’s “freaky” romance logic HoYoverseBaldur’s Gate 3 players are quite familiar with the romance aspect of the game. However, sometimes the romance can be questionable as the companions have very weird choices which makes the game freaky at times. Romance is one of the most essential aspects of Baldur’s Gate 3. Every companion in the game has a romance option and things can get quite deep if you wish for it. The companions themselves have unique personalities and they have their own likes and dislikes. These personalities reflect the inner demands and ideologies of the companions at times which are intrinsically connected to the background of these characters. Players feel that these ideologies are questionable at times as the preferences of the companions are often quite awkward. Baldur’s Gate 3 players are questioning the game’s freaky romance The discussion regarding the romance was started by a Reddit user named goddess-reaka. The player mentioned, “Reluctantly beats the hell out of Lae’zel in front of everyone in the camp.” The player continues, “Lae’zel: Now say you own me and make out with my bleeding mouth”. The player also commented, “Shadowheart: I can’t help but be jealous of what you and Lae’zel have.” The Reddit user feels that they find this sort of romantic ideology very problematic, but it seems like the game has this in abundance. As it happens, other players also joined into the discussion to provide their input. One such player commented, “Have you seen Shadowheart’s reaction to getting the Loviatar’s Love buff by getting whipped in the goblin camp? Shadowheart’s into that sort of thing.” Another player chimed, “The reason you don’t see her “freaky” side if you don’t indulge in these optional scenes is because canonically, it’s just factually not part of her character.” One player also claimed, “I took Lae’zel, Astarion and Shadowheart with me to the whipping (which I did naked because it’s funny). All three of them want to jump my bones now.” Lastly, a player mentioned, “She’s k****, but I love the fact that she is also super sweet, loving, and devoted too (at least on the Selûnite path).” Therefore, it seems like most players have come across the weird romance options in the game. However, they also seem to enjoy it as this weirdness adds more depth and spice to the characters as well as the story.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players prefer Karlach over other Origin characters for one huge reason – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players prefer Karlach over other Origin characters for one huge reason Larian StudiosFor many people, a big part of Baldur’s Gate 3 is making a character and experiencing the story in their shoes. That said, it isn’t for everyone, and others want to jump straight into the game using the Origin characters (who usually make up party members). One major difference between the Origin choices has the community praising it as the best option of the bunch. In a post on Reddit, one player affirmed their belief that Karlach is the best Origin character to pick. The reason for this is that Karlach is the only character who narrates her own scenes. This offers a far deeper look at the character from her own internal monologue and she stands out as the best choice of the several options available. None of the other Origin characters feature voice acting when they are the player’s primary character. This is obviously a notable downgrade from just having them in a party, where they regularly make their thoughts and feelings known. Many were quick to agree with the original post, with one player saying, “Yeah, I get why Durge or Tav is mute because of RP, but other companions got voices in the game. If we have played at least once, we know their characters and they should not be mute in dialogues IMHO.” Another added the idea that perhaps Karlach was intended as the original protagonist. Unfortunately, we know she was the last character to be added to the game, as this comment pointed out, saying, “From my understanding, she was the last to be added, at least after the game reached a playable state, which is why I’m surprised at this. Maybe they didn’t come up with the idea until that late point.” With Larian Studios now moving on to other projects, voiced Origin playthroughs will remain a pipe dream. For now, Karlach will have to serve as the only look at what might have been

Baldur’s Gate 3 players prefer a pretty Dark Urge over a Dragonborn – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players prefer a pretty Dark Urge over a Dragonborn Larian Studios / bobbahuiBaldur’s Gate 3 character creation is a pivotal aspect of the game, with players spending hours carefully crafting their Tavs or Durge’s. However, fans are now turning to the less traditional Dark Urge designs as opposed to the Dragonborn that quickly became standard. When it was first announced, the Dark Urge was portrayed as a Dragonborn. It’s the face of the Durge, and quickly became the standard design many would opt for. However, over a year after its full release, it seems the sentiment has dramatically shifted, with players opting for a pretty female design over the intimidating draconic race. During a Reddit post, where one player expressed their desire to play a “pretty girl” over a Dark Urge, thousands of fans began showcasing how fantastic it was to play a combination of both. “This is the only way” commented one user, going on to explain that their “Durge was a cute little tiefling girly Bard” rather than the traditional Dragonborn Sorcerer default Origin. “I find that Durge goes really well with the ‘pretty on the outside, ugly on the inside’ aesthetic,” commented one player — showcasing how ideal a pretty Durge is for roleplay purposes, allowing you to go hard on the ‘mean girl’ aesthetic while still being utterly brutal in combat. One user also explained that “It’s actually more f***ed up when a cute elf smiles in the bats**t crazy way Durge does in cutscenes.” Designing your Durge to be more conventionally attractive could only make them scarier according to some players. It seems thousands prefer to create their very own “Femme Fatale,” with many highlighting that sometimes “The prettiest things can be the most deadly.” Sure, how you design your Dark Urge is up to you, but if you’re yet to try a pretty femme fatale, then it’s well worth crafting one for your next Baldur’s Gate 3 run. Who knows what your companions will think?

Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise underrated companion: “This guy has the best quotes” – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise underrated companion: “This guy has the best quotes” Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players are celebrating one easy-to-miss companion who has some truly incredible lines. Baldur’s Gate 3 features a variety of companions to recruit. But beyond fan-favorite characters like Astarion, Shadowheart and Karlach, there are some who are pretty easy to miss. Among them is Minsc, a returning character from the first two Baldur’s Gate games. The ranger and his trusty hamster companion Boo are back, but since they cannot be encountered and recruited until Act 3 and require another easy-to-miss companion in Jaheira, many players probably haven’t added him to their parties. Now, Reddit users are discussing why that’s such as shame, as Minsc arguably has some of the best lines of dialogue in all of Baldur’s Gate 3. Baldur’s Gate 3 players love Minsc’s hilarious lines The conversation was started by Reddit user Sliiimball, who shared one of their favorite Minsc quotes on the Baldurs Gate 3 subreddit. In all three Baldur’s Gate games, Minsc is, to put it lightly, not the brightest bulb. He goes everywhere with Boo, who he genuinely believes he can talk to, and has a very black-and-white view of good and evil. It also helps that he’s voiced by Critical Role’s Matt Mercer, who delivers lines like “No, it’s a hamster” and “Life is simple, and so is Minsc” with hilarious earnestness. But while Minsc may come off as “simple,” other commenters have praised his “heartachingly profound” serious moments. This includes one where Minsc doesn’t understand why Jaheira is mad at him because, as the user paraphrases, “What good am I good for if not for dying to protect you?” While many never get to experience the brilliance that is Minsc, this conversation shows why it’s worth seeking him out. As one player admits, “Couldn’t stand him on my first playthrough, paid more attention to him on my second and realized it was – in fact – me, who was the ass.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise this spell that “carries” you in early game – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise this spell that “carries” you in early game Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 has a multitude of spells that you can use for a variety of offensive and defensive purposes. However, there is one spell that is so good that players believe it carries you through the early game. Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the most expansive RPGs that you can play in the current market. This game has an overwhelming number of combat options and that includes spells as well for the sorcerers and wizards. As such, among the numerous spells that are there in the game, a few are quite good. However, according to the players, there is one spell that can carry you through all of the early game. In fact, a few of them believe, it is quite good even in the late game. Baldur’s Gate 3 players believe one spell can carry you through all of early game The discussion surrounding the topic was started by a Reddit user named Anonymousman61. The user posted an image with the spell Cloud of Daggers and commented, “Damaging multiple enemies, blocking off a certain area, dumb enemy ai walking through it, always guaranteed to hit.” They also claimed, “This spell is everything.” Other players joined in the conversation as a lot of them have similar ideologies. One such user mentioned, “Slappin’ that bad boy on the most direct bridge, forcing them to damage themselves or use their turn to dash?” Another user chimed in, “I really like cloud of daggers..” One player also commented, “I used it during the battle when you save the clothes designer from the serial killer in Act 3 and left it at the center of the room and after the fight all of the survivors just decided to kill themselves by walking through it when I was talking to the guard.” Finally, a player claimed, “Forget early game, I was still spamming that shit in Act 3, it became a must have spell for me.” One player also stated, “The spell is a double edged sword, or dagger. I was fighting the harpies and Mirkon ran into it.” Therefore, it is safe to say that players are quite aware of how strong this spell is. However, some have also pointed out that this spell can end up hurting your teammates as well

Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise “powerful” spell almost everyone has access to – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise “powerful” spell almost everyone has access to Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 has tons of powerful spells for players to use – but one stands out as arguably “one of the top 5 best spells in BG3”. The best part is that almost every character class has access to it. Since its release, Baldur’s Gate 3 has taken the gaming world by storm, adapting a classic D&D adventure into a video game format. Such a design allows players to build their own characters from scratch, choosing a great class, designing their ideal look, and selecting their favorite spells and features. However, for many, creating that extremely powerful character can be tricky, especially when there are so many spells to choose from. That was until players discovered one fantastically powerful spell that can change the design of any combat, and can be used by almost any player. Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise “one of the top 5 best spells” in the game Posting onto Reddit, one Baldur’s Gate 3 fan shared a meme detailing how many different characters can use Misty Step and how useful it can be. The post quickly took off, with thousands of players finding the meme hilarious and hundreds taking to the comments to praise the game for the powerful spell. “I already knew Misty Step was good but I’d never really played a campaign with it; it’s probably one of the top 5 best spells in BG3. Just unbelievably powerful and useful,” exclaimed one user, showing off how useful Misty Step really is in a game like BG3, allowing your character to easily escape and engage in combat. Others compared the spells use to their traditional D&D games, stating how “In most 5e campaigns Misty Step, while still definitely a really useful spell, is nowhere near as powerful as it is in BG3 due to how most encounters are fought on flat planes designed with very limited traversal mechanics in mind.” It’s clear that Misty Step is one of the most powerful spells in the game, with plenty of players explaining how they can teleport as a Bonus Action and still have time to land some fantastic hits as melee characters. On top of this, many fans showed off how “easy it is to get misty step,” with a ton of armor and clothing providing access to the spell. As such, it allows characters and companions of any class the chance to seamlessly teleport into a battle and wreak havoc on the enemy. One player shared their use of such a power: “A barbarian with misty step is the most terrifying thing in Faerun.” Ultimately, it doesn’t matter if you have a character that can deal thousands of damage in one turn, everyone needs access to Misty Step.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise “perfect” voice acting in bizarrely specific scene – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise “perfect” voice acting in bizarrely specific scene Larian StudiosPlayers have found a hilarious Astarion moment hidden in Baldur’s Gate 3 that is only accessible under very specific circumstances. One of the most widely-praised aspects of Baldur’s Gate 3 is its voice acting. Every line of dialogue in the game is voiced or narrated, which really brings the world and its characters to life. The amount of freedom players have to take on the game’s many challenges means there are a lot of voiced lines in the game. This includes some particular situations that most players will never see unless they actively seek them out. One of these is a particularly hilarious conversation with a furious Astarion featuring line deliveries from actor Neil Newbon that fans call “perfectly unhinged.” Note: spoilers for Astarion’s storyline and the Mountain Pass to follow. Baldur’s Gate 3’s Astarion has a perfect reaction to a very specific death Twitter user TeganMorrisVO spotlighted a moment of her playthrough with a video. The scene is only triggered by having Astarion die because of the exploding lance in the Mountain Pass and then resurrecting him. Here, the fan-favorite companion confronts the player for activating the weapon, leading to his excruciating demise. The writing and delivery here are hilarious, with Astarion screaming about his experience and mocking the player in a way fans have come to expect and love him for. His reactions to the player’s different response options are great, too. The player can apologize, remind Astarion that they brought him back, ask about the mind flayer parasite (which protects the vampire from sunlight), or tell him they liked him better as a pile of ash. Choosing the third option gets players the hilarious line, “Well, apparently, there’s a limit. Somewhere between a nice summer’s day and the full concentrated power of the sun” – of course, delivered with a mix of mocking and screaming in rage. Fans are understandably delighted by the clip. You think he’s already nailed it with “”I was RIGHT. THERE.”” Then he gives you “”Gods!”” followed by “”Next time? No, no, no~.”” Like, the man just kept making it better. — Gabriel Bera, Shield of Rosaria 🔥 (@gabebera) August 22, 2023 I saw this earlier today… whenever someone asks me what I mean when I say BG3 is GOTY, this is the clip lol — Felipe Perez Roa (@fperezroa) August 23, 2023 LOSING MY GODDAMN MIND AT THIS FSJEFHJESFHJSFHS is it wrong of me that i want to find this scenerio to do it to him just because its so funny — Lin / in BG3 Act 1 hell (@linzer_art) August 22, 2023 What makes all this even better is that Larian chose to include the scene despite the rare situation. The Mountain Pass is one of two ways to get to Act 2, meaning some players won’t experience it. Even those who do might miss the lance, and even then, they’d have to leave Astarion in the blast radius when it does off and later revive him via Withers. It’s moments like this that made Baldur’s Gate 3 so beloved in such a short amount of time. Between incredibly specific scenes like this and plenty of subtle nods to things like Critical Role and Final Fantasy XIV, it’s pretty clear players will be finding secrets in this game for years to come.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise Patch 6’s quality-of-life improvements – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise Patch 6’s quality-of-life improvements Larian StudiosFollowing the release of Patch 6 last week, Baldur’s Gate 3 players are sharing their favorite new quality-of-life improvements. Baldur’s Gate 3 recently received its first major update of 2024. Patch 6 makes a variety of fixes and overall improvements to the game, with Larian emphasizing its new kiss animations ahead of its release. However, the most popular and widely-praised changes in Patch 6 are its quality-of-life improvements, which make Baldur’s Gate 3 a bit less tedious overall. Baldur’s Gate 3 players prefer QoL changes to kisses One such conversation started with a post to the BaldursGate3 subreddit by Tiny_Celebration_262, who said, “STFU about the kisses, this is the best thing from patch 6” with an image of them hovering over a spell. Now, the box includes a warning that casting this spell will break the character’s active Concentration. Since launch, this has been a frequent mistake among players, especially those who aren’t familiar with Dungeons & Dragons mechanics. “I noticed! it has already saved me 3 times just this afternoon lol,” responded one player. “Man I’ve wasted so many turns accidentally breaking my Haste concentration lol,” said another. Others have shared their personal favorite quality-of-life improvements from Patch 6, with the option to dismiss party members when speaking to a character you want to add being among the most praised. Still, others have pointed out issues with the patch, such as the removal of the option to send items to specific characters in Camp via the inventory while exploring. Why this option, which was introduced in a previous patch, was removed is unclear, leading some to suspect it’s a bug. Some have also encountered bugs with the new dismissal option and additional audio syncing issues. It’s likely a new Hotfix will be released in the coming weeks to address some of Patch 6’s rough edges, but overall, it seems the update is a step in the right direction.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise new color-blind feature – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise new color-blind feature Larian StudiosColor-blind Baldur’s Gate 3 players celebrate an accessibility feature that makes even established fans feel they’re “playing for the first time.” Accessibility in games is an increasingly vital part of development. Baldur’s Gate 3 developer, Larian Studios, has responded to this need by including a color-mode in their most recent patch. Color-blind modes work by correcting the coloring of both the UI and the game world, meaning players with color vision deficiencies can navigate play with greater ease, and an experience that more closely matches what devs intended. Unfortunately, the inclusion of a color-blind mode isn’t the industry standard just yet. What’s more, in cases where it is included, some players have claimed it isn’t effective or even makes things worse. As such, plenty of fans believe Larian has made a significant leap with Baldur’s Gate 3’s accessibility. Baldur’s Gate 3’s color-blind mode is a game changer, say fans One player took to the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit to explain how impactful the color-blind mode has been for his wife. She has tritanomaly, a form of color blindness that results in a limited perception of yellows and greens. So, before the patch, she could only see environments as “one vague green mess.” “She turned on color-blind mode for the first time and it’s kind of breaking her brain […] She has around 300 hours of play, but it’s like she’s playing for the very first time”, the Redditor explained. Other color-blind players in the replies echoed this enthusiasm: “I am color-blind too, when I turned it on in bg3 I was… amazed!! I sat for 10 min and just went back and forth and zoomed in and out. It was shocking good!!” All that said, players agree that there are still areas in which Baldur’s Gate 3’s accessibility can be improved. Color blindness is a spectrum, so some players still aren’t quite feeling the benefit of its implementation. For example, those with color vision deficiencies which impact their ability to see reds are still having a tough time discerning markers on the game map. Considering Larian Studios has been demonstrating a continued effort to improve upon Baldur’s Gate 3 months after its release, players are confident that further improvements to accessibility are on the horizon. In the meantime, the community is working to fill the gaps by developing a host of disability-friendly mods.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise “massively OP” race – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise “massively OP” race Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players are praising one “massively OP” race, with many wondering why they ever chose anything else. The character creation is a key element for Baldur’s Gate 3. You can choose your class, background, look, and race. Naturally, this ensures no two characters are ever the same, and lets you build yourself, your favorite D&D character, or something entirely original. However, as any D&D fan will know, choosing your race and class is no easy feat, for there are some undeniably more powerful than others, and some races that match certain classes perfectly. One race seems to have shone as the most powerful, with players discovering just how “massively OP” it really is. Baldur’s Gate 3 fans adore one “massively OP” race Sharing their thoughts on Reddit, one user questioned: “Why are Githyanki so massively OP?” To help prove their point, they added some of the bonuses this class gets, listing how they “gain proficiency in any skill and change it with a rest.” and how they get” free misty step: one of the best spells in the game, triple jumping distance, mage hand for free, access to light and medium armour + swords.” It’s clear to see why many players love to play the Githyanki, especially when their “movement capabilities alone puts them above every other class.” However, the reason why this class is so powerful spans far deeper than Larian giving players an incentive to what many consider is “compensation for the lack of a nose.” In fact, as described by one commenter, before the Githyanki became what we see them in Baldur’s Gate 3, they were “an Illithid slave race. They were very likely a different race entirely that were generically re-engineered to be a race built for war and with innate martial prowess. They were effectively warrior slaves, similar to Duergar, but to a much greater extreme. Once gaining their independence, their entire race devoted themselves to stopping the grand design and slaying all Illithid. They live their entire lives training for and actively fighting against the Illithid. “ So essentially, as perfectly explained by one user: “They’re basically astral space spartans” and are much more powerful than many give them credit for. Interestingly enough, the Githyanki are among the least-played race, meaning this powerful design is rather underutilized – but who knows, maybe they’ll eventually get the credit they’re due.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise “lesser known” OP item – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise “lesser known” OP item Larian StudiosThroughout a player’s journey in Baldur’s Gate 3, their party comes across a lot of different items. Though some of these are more useful than others, the community has drawn attention to one easily overlooked piece of loot that proves extremely useful. In a post on social media, one Baldur’s Gate 3 player put the spotlight on the Boots of Very Fast Blinking. These boots are available as a random drop if you spin the wheel at the Circus of the Last Days in the game’s third act. Hilariously, they let players cast Disrobing Blinkstep, which teleports the player to a location. The only caveat is that they arrive without their clothes (aside from the boots.) Though this seems like a joke at first, it has several very useful applications. As the OP points out, it allows players to gain access to otherwise barred or difficult-to-reach areas. It also refreshes after only one turn and has unlimited uses. It’s an excellent utility option to have in your inventory. Many were quick to share their own hilarious stories of using the boots in their party, particularly without realizing what they did. One said, “I FEEL SO STUPID THIS IS WHY EVERY FIGHT MY JAHEIRA IS NAKED???? I lost her clothes officially during the 3rd fight & now she’s Gstring-ing it all over Baldur’s Gate.” Another added, “Dude, I got these in my first playthrough and didn’t know I had them, and when quickly changing equipment, didn’t realize they weren’t the Disintegrating Nightwalkers. I was in the Bhallist trial in the cavern with the Power Word Kill guy; Misty stepped over to get in range and had to figure out why my character was suddenly naked.” There are so many different options and secrets available in Baldur’s Gate 3 that these situations are always bound to occur. Most won’t end up being as unintentionally funny as the Boots of Very Fast Blinking, though.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise “hysterical” evil Shadowheart run – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise “hysterical” evil Shadowheart run Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players can’t get over one “hysterical” evil Shadowheart run that proves it’s practically impossible for her to be cruel. From the moment it was released, Baldur’s Gate 3 was praised for its versatility. Thanks to a vareity of races, classes, looks, and narrative options, no two adventures are the same. While it doesn’t extend as far to the companions, your character can certainly influence them, ultimately dictating whether they’re good or evil. However, there are some companions that just don’t feel like they were destined to be evil, even if they’re technically worshiping an arguably evil goddess at the beginning. Poor Shadowheart is a softie inside really, and trying to make her into a Dark Justiciar can lead to a rather “hysterical run.” Baldur’s Gate 3 fans love how not evil Shadowheart really is Sharing their observation on Reddit, one user joked about how Shadowheart is hilarious when worshipping Shar in act one and two, sharing a few key quotes from her character: “I’m a cleric of Shar, Lady of Sorrows guide me, An idol of Selûne? Do you need paperweight or what?” However, after allowing her to become a Dark Justiciar, which means you’ll need to do some questionable things, she seems to change her tone. The poster revealed that once Shadowheart kills her own parents to be anointed she thinks it’s fine, but when the Dark Urge embraces their legacy, she judges the player intensely. “Sis, this is the first and last time I’m letting you go Dark Justiciar, you just don’t know how to evil” highlighted the player, joking that her tone and morals just don’t fit with evil choices. “Yea she’s a bit of a poser. She’s no Minthara” joked one user, highlighing just how lovable and kind Shadowheart really is and how bad she is at pretending otherwise. One fan wisely explained Shadowhearts predicament, revealing that “she is devotee of a godess she pretends Shar is, not of the Shar that actually exists.” It’s clear that while Shadowheart may definitely be evil, she’s most certainly a little confused during most of the events of Baldur’s Gate 3.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise hated NPC: “He doesn’t deserve all the hate” – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise hated NPC: “He doesn’t deserve all the hate” Larian StudiosNot all Baldur’s Gate 3 NPCs were made equally, and not all are loved in the same way – but poor Zevlor just gets far too much hate for the one mistake he made in Act Two. During Act One, we meet the Tiefling refugees, led by Zevlor. His aim is to lead them to safety over to Baldur’s Gate, but in the process, they’re attacked by the Cult of the Absolute. Without too much of a fight, Zevlor apparently freezes and surrenders the entire group – at least that’s what the Tieflings think. In reality, he was instantly mind-controlled, meaning he had no real power over his actions. Nevertheless, fans and in-game characters are quick to hate the NPC for his ‘cowardly’ actions, and some players have had enough. “I don’t understand what was Zevlor supposed to do” shared one player on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit, slamming the hate for the Paladin. They went on to add: “When they get ambushed, the f**k was Zevlor supposed to do? Yeah, he got mind-controlled and surrendered, but even if that didn’t happen, what was he supposed to do? Fight? Against the absolutists, with a group of civilians and kids?” While, on the surface, his surrender looked weak, the alternative was certain death for a group of innocent refugees. Interestingly, this is a prime example of mixed information, as the game’s NPCs don’t know he was mind-controlled, whereas the players do, meaning they end up drawing different conclusions. Zevlor is still a pretty hated NPC throughout the game but fans are quick to jump to his defense, commenting that “it’s completely tragic” when talking about his story. However, some slammed the BG3 story for such hatred, adding that “he is one of the few characters I wish had some sort of redemption arc. Come act 3 he’s just… gone.” Perhaps, with a good redemption arc, Zevlor could be forgiven by the other NPCs or even a few players. But while Larian Studios have promised full mod support and a few more dark endings, no more new stories are coming, so Zevlor may just have to deal with the negative feelings toward him.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise game for letting them “screw up” their own story – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise game for letting them “screw up” their own story Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 has so much variety and flexibility in it that players have started praising the game for how much it lets them mess up the story. It’s common knowledge by now that Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the top releases of the year, and a bit part of this success is the incredible flexibility and wide range of options available to players at any given point. The narrative of Baldur’s Gate 3, neatly packaged in separate acts, seems able to react to just about any decision the player makes, even if it happens outside of a cutscene, and it’s this adaptation that makes any playthrough of the game feel meaningful. For many players, the pinnacle of this mechanic on display was found early on in Act 2, when several things can change the Last Light Inn depending on what choices you make- or alternatively, how badly you mess up (watch out for spoilers!). Baldur’s Gate 3 story flexibility peaks at Last Light Inn The Last Light Inn during Act 2 can undergo several transformations depending on what happens there with Isobel, and there are also different events that can occur if you win or lose combat encounters. For one player, who wrote about their experience on the forums, their playthrough saw Isobel be captured by Marcus, which would lead to a game over in other games. But the dialogue and cutscenes for this scenario were so fleshed out that they thought this was a fixed event in the story. “The game is willing and able to turn on its heels simply because you f*cked up and lost a fight. It’s absolutely amazing. It’s also just ballsy. They’re confident enough in their storytelling that they’re willing to wipe out that many characters at once.” Another player helpfully pointed out that there was even a separate cutscene that played if Isobel was turned into a sheep. For more news and updates on Baldur’s Gate 3, check out the players who aren’t using the most powerful buffs in the game for fear of messing up their characters.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise Gale as “dumbest companion” – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise Gale as “dumbest companion” Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players are praising the writing for Gale, who they view as “high intelligence, low wisdom” kind of character. The writing of Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the game’s many strengths, and the fanbase has loved finding all the bits of dialogue and events that show this. Even in the case of a character’s, maybe, lesser qualities, the community loves the way Larian has written these companions and more. Now, some fans are showing this appreciation by recognizing that Gale is a lovable, if dumb, character. Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise Gale’s smart, but dumb, characterization In a post to the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, a fan gives their explanation for why they view Gale as “high intelligence, low wisdom.” They go into detail how they love Gale and “undoubtedly intelligent in many fields.” However, they also feel that Gale is kind of useless in a lot of ways, to the point that he might be, “in the running with Minsc for dumbest companion.” Further, they say that most of Gale’s arc is about helping him not make the wrong decision, whereas other companions have much more independent kind of arcs. The responses to the post have been largely in agreement, with one user saying: “Spot on imo, I have not and probably will never be able to decide if Gale is my most favorite or most hated companion for exactly this reason.” Many people view Gale as someone who possesses book smarts, but is socially inept in many situations in Baldur’s Gate 3. One user describes him as being, “little more than a child desperate for an adult’s guidance and approval.” While this may sound rather harsh, this does not mean that the community views Gale as a bad character. In fact, many of the players in the thread describe him as one of the most relatable companions in the game. The strength of the writing in Baldur’s Gate 3 continues to keep the game rolling and has players coming back for several repeat playthroughs. It doesn’t seem like its popularity is going to die down anytime soon.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise easy difficulty mode: “Finally enjoying the game” – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise easy difficulty mode: “Finally enjoying the game” Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 is a fairly complex game and unless you are a veteran of the genre, playing on the highest difficulty can be tough. As such, one player in the community decided to play it in easy mode, and claimed that they are finally enjoying it. Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the most complex games you can play in 2023. The sheer depth and content of the game can often feel overwhelming for new players. Additionally, if you increase the difficulty, the game becomes even more gruesome, unless you are a seasoned veteran who is used to titles like these. Hence, one player in the community decided to play the game in easy mode as they were having a hard time with Balanced difficulty. They also posted their decision on Reddit as a means to interact with the community. As it happens, the post received a lot of positive comments from the community, and Baldur’s Gate 3 players supported this fan for playing the game in a way where they had fun. Baldur’s Gate 3 players receive community-wide support after claiming they will switch to easy mode The discussion regarding this easy mode was started by a Reddit user petrichorgarden. The user posted, “I’ve been playing on Balanced and I’m honestly stuck in Act 1. I killed the goblin leaders but I just can’t get past the fake Paladins, the gnolls, the spiders in the well, or the underdark.” They further continued, “I’m sure I’m missing items that would help and I could respec my characters but honestly I’m mostly interested in these kinds of games for the story anyway.” This post garnered a lot of attention from the community, and others joined in to encourage the player. One such Reddit user commented, “Hell yeah homie, don’t let weirdos tell you there’s a wrong way to enjoy your game.” Another player chimed in, “There is nothing wrong with playing the game in the mode that is most enjoyable to you!” One user also mentioned, “That’s how I’m playing it. I’m really not here for a challenge, I’m here for a good time.” Lastly, a player claimed, “I didnt even bother with anything above the easiest level and i feel no shame for that. if its an option, I’m damn well going to take advantage of it.” One player also added, “Fr, my friend used to make fun of me all the time cause I didn’t like the combat for how difficult it was, then proceeded to make fun of me MORE for playing on easy. My brother in Christ I’m finally enjoying the game, why are you mad” Therefore, it is safe to say that the community shares the sentiment of the players who made the original post. There is nothing wrong in enjoying a game in a way that feels pleasing. Turning on difficulty for the sake of it can make the experience bad, and the community supports the idea. In a lot of scenarios, switching to easy mode is looked down upon by others. However, the Baldur’s Gate 3 community is definitely welcoming to all kinds of players and are more focused towards enjoying it in their own way.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise devs for solo warning after characters’ tragic fate – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise devs for solo warning after characters’ tragic fate Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players praise Larian Studios for discouraging a solo run, thanks to the tragic fate of several characters who attempt to go it alone. Baldur’s Gate 3 is based on Dungeons & Dragons 5E rules, where a group of characters is heavily encouraged, with each hero possessing unique abilities that complement the other group members. As Baldur’s Gate 3 is a video game, players have attempted brutally difficult solo runs, where a single character tries to beat the hardest bosses. This is more difficult than it sounds because the game’s turn-based action economy gives groups of enemies a massive advantage over a single hero. The way Baldur’s Gate 3 is paced, the player will likely encounter Shadowheart, Astarion, Gale, Lae’zel, and Wyll within the first few hours of play, giving them a party of adventurers for Act I. But what about the people who still want to go it alone? Baldur’s Gate 3 drops not-too-subtle hints about avoiding a solo run Users on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit praise Larian Studios for the tragic fates of certain NPCs, encouraging players not to go it alone. Baldur’s gate 3 is best played with a party, which is why some characters who do try and act on their own are cut down by monsters. “The Tiefling surveying the Githyanki near the mountain pass? She said she works better alone. Dead,” the OP said, “The Drow at the bottom of the cliff near Auntie Ethel’s mushroom circle? He said he works better alone. Dead.” “Larian said split the party and see what happens,” one user writes, while another said, “You must gather your party before venturing forth.” Of course, not all players heed the advice, with some preferring to add mods to Baldur’s Gate 3 to implement the Lone Wolf option from Divinity: Original Sin II, making it much easier to complete a solo run. Still, Baldur’s Gate 3 heavily encourages the use of party members, whether they have established backstories or are a group of hirelings recruited by Withers. A balanced party makes the game much more fun, as the enemies won’t steamroll the protagonist in every encounter. At the start of Baldur’s Gate 3, the Nautiloid ship should be warning enough about how dangerous it is to go alone, but the fanbase appreciates the extra deceased NPCs and their terrible fates.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise devs’ announcements for Patch 6 – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise devs’ announcements for Patch 6 LarianThe devs of Baldur’s Gate 3 released some announcements for the upcoming release of Patch 6, and the fans are loving how they did it. Patch 6 is set to release this week, and sees the next major update to Baldur’s Gate 3, which always means a fair share of changes and content. To get ready for the release, the game’s devs released some information about some of what is coming to the game in the update. The Baldur’s Gate 3 community is loving how they did it and is heaping even more praise on the development team as a result. Baldur’s Gate 3 players love the announcements for Patch 6 Originally, these announcements were made on X, and the Baldur’s Gate 3 community conversation moved over to the subreddit. In the post, each piece of change or content is accompanied by some kind of clever caption and humorous image to go along with it. Players are loving them all, including the changes themselves. “Holy crap. Dismissing companions made easier? Shield Bash works? Wrong character triggered dialogue fixes?? Am I dreaming????” There are a good chunk of quality-of-life changes coming in the patch, and it is clear that they are striking the right cord with the fans. “Shield Bash fix. Can dismiss party members without running all over camp. MC is prioritized in auto-started dialogue. Larian is the ultimate valentine.” It appears to have some players wanting to start a completely new playthrough, with one user saying as much as they want to resist, they almost certainly won’t be able to. The entire update is looking primed to continue the devs’ streak of making popular decisions in the Baldur’s Gate 3 community.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise “chad Withers” for helping to avoid plot hole – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise “chad Withers” for helping to avoid plot hole Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 fans have praised Withers for helping to avoid what some players initially thought might have been a massive plot hole involving Bhaal. With Baldur’s Gate 3’s story weaving plenty of twists and turns throughout, there’s always the fear that things might not flow together. Some BG3 players had this feeling after the confrontation with Orin in the Temple of Bhaal. In particular, a Reddit user asked the community why Bhaal simply let the party leave unharmed after the fight was over. “He is no doubt pissed for what we did; he could’ve ordered his remaining followers to attack our weakened party… But yet he just doesn’t. Instead, he tells them to keep their blades sheathed and lets us walk out of his temple unharmed after all that. Why,” the player asked. Some fans argued that this response is actually true to Bhaal’s nature and will play out further down the line. “Bhaal likes slaughter. Including the slaughter of his followers. What’s not to like about what you did in his temple,” argued one player. Another noted that Bhaal may not have as much power as one might think. “Bhaal is only a quasi-deity now. He’s lost almost all his power. That combined with the fact that gods aren’t really allowed to interfere on Toril. His options are pretty limited.” Interestingly, some members of the community think Withers may have been behind the easy escape. Should one be playing the Dark Urge route, and they refuse to accept Bhaal, Withers will directly interfere and even resurrect the player. He will say, “So rise, Challenger of Gods, and prepare for battle once more. Death will not claim thee whilst I endure.” Fans in the comments loved this line of thinking, with one even labeling him “chad Withers” for always having the party’s back.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players point out huge flaw in the game’s conclusion – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players point out huge flaw in the game’s conclusion Larian StudiosFans have pointed out some glaring omissions that hold back a pivotal moment at the end of Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate 3. The climax of Baldur’s Gate 3‘s three-act narrative is the final boss fight against an evolved form of the Elder Brain called the Netherbrain. It’s an epic battle that takes place on top of the gargantuan Abberation itself, a combat spectacle befitting its high-stakes outcome. As with all Baldur’s Gate 3 battles, you can only take three of your companions to the final confrontation with the Netherbrain. As a result, it’s unclear what the remaining few are doing during this crucial point of the game’s plot. With each member of your party having an integral part in your character’s journey, the idea of them simply hanging out at camp has struck players as incredibly odd. Baldur’s Gate 3’s final fight has a problem according to players A Baldur’s Gate 3 fan shared their feelings that “all the companions should be at the final boss” with the game’s Reddit community. The player argued how “silly” it was that various minor NPC allies could provide support during this fight while all but three of your campmates are nowhere to be found. While plenty of fans were in agreement, others embraced the notion of companions playing an enhanced but still minor role in the concluding confrontation: “I’d like to see a cut scene showing that the companions who aren’t in your party are fighting the Absolute’s forces elsewhere in the city or something, just to explain where they are.” While you do get a chance to link back up with the rest of your companions in the Epilogue, players are still put off by their inexplicable absence. “Did you guys just go to the bar while we were fighting for our lives?”, one commenter joked. Some Baldur’s Gate 3 players have cleverly bypassed the problem by using mods to remove the traveling party limit: “This [Party Limit Begone] mod has been such a game changer, my God. It feels so natural. […] It actually feels like we really are a big team.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 players point out hilarious unintentional Spider-Man crossover – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players point out hilarious unintentional Spider-Man crossover Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 is an extremely deep game which means you will often come across some references that are unintentional but make a lot of sense. As it happens, players have recently come across an unintentional but quite hilarious Spider-Man crossover. Baldur’s Gate 3 is by far one of the most popular games of 2023. In fact, on December 7, 2023, it was crowned The Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2023. Hence, the hype surrounding the game continues to increase. However, the most important part of the game that keeps it exciting is the community. As it happens, the same community has managed to come across an unintentional albeit interesting and hilarious crossover related to Spider-Man. Here is what the community has to say regarding this sudden discovery. Baldur’s Gate 3 players find hilarious and unintentional Spider-Man crossover The discussion regarding this strange connection between Baldur’s Gate 3 with Spider-Man was started by a Reddit user named AdCandid3049. The user posted a couple of screenshots where they connected Minthara to Spider-Woman and Kethric Thorm to J. Jonah Jameson. This post received a lot of attention from other players as they joined in the discussion to talk about this hilarious connection. One such player commented, “He wants Minthara photos.” Another user chimed in, “She also hates the Goblins.” One player also mentioned, “This is the kind of stupid I prefer seeing. If it makes me laugh then it’s not stupid. XD Thanks for making me laugh, OP. I needed it.” Lastly, a user claimed, “You know… despite how utterly insane it sounds, the logic behind it is… sound?” Therefore, it is safe to say that other players are having fun with this amazing analogy that the owner of the original post has come up with. However, it is this kind of fun discussion that continues to make Baldur’s Gate one of the most immersive titles of 2023.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players “point blank refuse” to make one key choice – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players “point blank refuse” to make one key choice Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players are refusing to make one key choice, no matter how many alternative options the game gives them. Baldur’s Gate 3 is filled with a variety of choices for players to make along their playthroughs. Some are a little less consequential than others, but a few can completely alter the way a character acts, or the way the story plays out. As such, one player has taken to the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit to ask the community: “What do you point blank refuse to do, consequences be damned?” Along with the question, they revealed an extremely popular choice they refuse to change. “I know I am missing out on seeing a different branch of story but I won’t kill Isobel or Aylin and won’t let Last Light fall. I’ve gone through Act 2 literally dozens of times, but I won’t do it, I won’t let them die.” Plenty of the community echoed this sentiment, with players feeling extremely attached to Isobel and Aylin, as well as the Last Light Inn mission in general. It may be a challenge to save it, but watching Isobel and Aylin reunite is always worth it. Others jumped to the comments to share their love for everyone’s favorite good boy: “I won’t give scratch back!” This was by far the most popular unchangeable choice players made in Baldur’s Gate 3, and many fans will always treat Scratch with as much love as they can. While plenty detailed about “not making a deal with Raphael” or their need to “help Hope,” one common yet rather unimportant choice was to “slap Gale’s hand.” When you first meet him and he’s reaching out of the portal, hundreds of players will always slap his hand before helping him, summing up how players feel about Gale and their impulses perfectly. While many fans may struggle to make any ‘cruel’ choice in Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s certainly a testament to how engrossed the playerbase has gotten, despite plenty of patches and dialogue frustrations.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players pick which class each character would hate most – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players pick which class each character would hate most Larian StudiosPlayers are discussing which Baldur’s Gate 3 classes are the worst fits for the game’s playable character based on their personality and lore. Baldur’s Gate 3 gives players lots of options for character builds for custom avatars, Origin characters, and other companions. But while players can respec any character to fit their chosen build, some classes make far less sense when paired with certain characters from a lore perspective. For instance, even if you turn Astarion into a Cleric, he’ll still be the same ill-mannered and sarcastic guy he was as a Rogue. Now, players are discussing which class is the worst choice for each character based on their personalities and lore. Baldur’s Gate 3 fans think each character would hate being certain classes The discussion started in a Reddit thread created by ZeShmoutt, who had plenty of suggestions of their own, covering every playable character except Jaheira. Highlights from the original post include Berserker Barbarian Gale, Dark Urge Monk, and Wizard Minsc (with Boo the hamster, of course, getting all the intelligence). These selections play with the character’s personal dislikes, goals, and fears. For example, Gale is written as a magical powerhouse with deep ties to the Weave, but Berserker takes all magical options away. Similarly, a multiclass Beastmaster Ranger/Moon Druid for Shadowheart would torment the Shar worshipper with her canonical fear of wolves. Some argued that the Monk Dark Urge is actually a great storytelling choice, particularly for a run where the player resists the urge to kill. After all, that internal struggle between inner peace and instinctual violence is a major element of that Origin’s arc. As for Jaheira, several commenters have suggested Bard. She does specifically say that she hates Bards and their songs about her, so she’d probably be miserable having to live as one. While many of these options are funny, some, like that Shadowheart build are quite cruel – making them perfect for your next evil run. Baldur’s Gate 3 players pay respects to forgotten companion – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players pay respects to forgotten companion Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players are taking the time to acknowledge the game’s most short-lived companion that no one talks about. For the most part, the companions in Baldur’s Gate 3 are not one-time interactions and will stick with you throughout the game’s entire story. However, this isn’t always the case as some companions will only join you for a short time to help with a situation before leaving your party for good. Now, the Baldur’s Gate 3 community is taking the time to pay their respects to Us, a companion that is only in the game for a brief period of time. Baldur’s Gate 3 players pay homage to Us The prologue of Baldur’s Gate 3 gives players a chance to work with Us, a small intellect devourer that looks like a brain. However, once the prologue is done, Us leaves the game for a while. The community has taken to the game’s subreddit to pay respects to Us, as they see them as a little-discussed companion. The post is titled “Us appreciation thread,” and features fans sharing their love for the tiny brain. As one user says: “Love my brain kitty.” Other players are pointing out that you can miss having Us as a companion entirely when you meet him: “It was sneaky of bg3 to introduce an option to mutilate him in the very first minutes of the game for possibly sound reasons…” And the fact that Us was the brain of another person doesn’t matter to some: “Idk and Idc who the elf was, his brain is my child.” Many also are taking the time to discuss how you can encounter Us again later on in the experience, just in a much worse situation. If players choose to mutilate Us at the beginning, they will appear later on as an optional boss. However, this is far from the outcome that the Baldur’s Gate 3 community wants.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players overjoyed as most annoying glitch is finally fixed – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players overjoyed as most annoying glitch is finally fixed Larian StudiosThe torment of the Baldur’s Gate 3 fanbase has finally ended, as the latest patch has fixed the most annoying glitch in the game. Baldur’s Gate 3 spent several years in Steam Early Access, but the game’s launch version wasn’t exactly bug-free. While still playable, Baldur’s Gate 3 launched with many issues, especially during the game’s final act. Since launch, Baldur’s Gate 3 has received numerous patches and hotfixes, all of which have slowly resolved the game’s problems. Baldur’s Gate 3 will likely continue to receive updates for years to come, considering the sheer amount of content in the game The most recent Baldur’s Gate 3 update at the time of writing is Hotfix 15, which comes with a patch note that has brought untold happiness to the fanbase, as one of the worst glitches has finally been fixed. Baldur’s Gate 3 has finally fixed the glitch that stopped party members from jumping when following A post on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit has outlined one of the biggest reveals from the Hotfix 15 patch notes. Apparently, the issue that stopped party members from jumping over gaps when following the lead character has been fixed to the joy of the fans. “This was… THE bug that needed fixing. Praise be,” one user wrote, while another said, “If true I’m gonna miss that personal feel, that staredown when I jump, but Astarion doesn’t, and he just stands there and looks at me, and I look at him, and it is silent disdain between us.” Unfortunately, it might not be 100% fixed, as one user reports, “Sadly experienced it again one hour ago at the cliffs outside of House of Hope. So it may be better, but it’s not totally fixed.” The jumping problem is one of the most common and annoying problems with Baldur’s Gate 3, especially as switching control to the still character can cause the other party members to jump back over the gap, resulting in a race to try and get everyone on the correct ledge. Surprisingly, the jumping pathfinding glitch wasn’t fixed sooner, especially considering how much the fanbase hated it. The players’ patience has finally been rewarded, and the era of waiting for Karlach to stop standing perfectly still and jump over a cliff is over.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players outline why least-used companion is so unpopular – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players outline why least-used companion is so unpopular Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players have pinpointed why the game’s least popular companion doesn’t make the cut for so many adventurers- and it’s not just because they replace Minthara. Being a companion in Baldur’s Gate is a tough gig. Not only do you have to keep up with an erratic player who you’re hard-coded to flirt with, there’s also a chance that a Durge character is going to kill you when you least expect it. To make matters worse, the companions are all competing with each other for the player’s affection, with those unfortunate enough to be banished from the party relegated to the camp forever. With so many instantly iconic characters to choose from, it’s only natural that some of them don’t quite make the cut, and it looks like the Baldur’s Gate community has settled on one companion in particular as the least popular. Halsin crowned as Baldur’s Gate 3’s least popular companion Unluckily for the Druid Bear man, the Baldur’s Gate 3 forums are full of Halsin slander which makes it difficult to put him anywhere other than the bottom. One player pinpointed why he wasn’t as engaging as other companions, saying that it was down to: “his reactions and his attitude. I really can’t get myself to like him.” Another player broke it down to Halsin being very likeable in real life, but less interesting for a game. “Halsin and Wyll are both people I would like in real life but are boring as companions in a game. The most interesting characters are always people you’d hate in real life. I would stop talking to Astarion or Mizora after about five minutes irl but in-game, I can’t get enough of them.” Wyll was another companion who was ranked quite low, with Astarion and Shadowheart taking the top spots for most players. For more news and updates on Baldur’s Gate 3, check out everything that’s going on with a possible new mode being added to the game.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players outline perfect DLC setting after heartbreaking companion story – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players outline perfect DLC setting after heartbreaking companion story Larian StudiosThanks to the success of Baldur’s Gate 3, fans are already demanding a DLC from Larian, with some thinking they’ve found the perfect story to help complete a certain heartbreaking companion storyline. Having only recently released onto PS5 and fully cementing itself on PC, Baldur’s Gate 3 has taken the gaming world by storm, with many labeling it a GOTY contender, despite the success of ToTK and Starfield. One key element players adore is the gripping story and lovable companions, who you can romance and become great friends with. In typical Dungeons & Dragons fashion, not all of those companion stories have a happy ending, which is the case for one beloved character. However, players have now outlined the ideal DLC setting to help players take revenge for the companion’s unfortunate fate. There are spoilers for the end of a companion’s story below, so read with caution. Baldur’s Gate 3 players have found the perfect DLC setting for Karlach With a tragic backstory and a zest for her current life, Karlach quickly became a fan favorite among Baldur’s Gate 3 players. Her desire to free herself from Zariel’s clutches resonated with a lot of players and therefore made her companion storyline a pivotal one. However, the story doesn’t end well, with her either dying, being turned into a Mind Flayer, or having to travel back to Zariel in order to save herself. Now, one BG3 player has found the ideal DLC setting and design, to help “get our bestest girl Karlach her heart back.” Posting onto Reddit, they shared how “There is nothing we’d need more than a succinct DLC where we beat Zariel into the ground,” using the D&D campaign guide Descent into Avernus as their inspiration. Naturally, the community went wild for this idea, with some stating how they “will devote my entire life savings to help Larian make this come true.” Sure, the reason for this reaction is to reunite with Karlach, but for most, it’s all about wanting “nothing short of beating Zariel into the ground and tearing out her still-beating heart to fix the best girl.” However, along with the support, some players made a few points in opposition, stating how an ending DLC like this would have to “ignore all the avenues we could have pursued to try to find a fix for her in BG” and could nullify those who chose to kill her early on, or other options. On that notion, technically, the events of Descent into Avernus have already happened in Baldur’s Gate 3, with the talk of Elturel being brought back from the Hells. However, there are few elements stopping players from heading back into there and aiding Karlach, with perhaps a side DLC rather than one that affects those who make different choices. Although there’s not too much word regarding a DLC yet.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players obsessed with unlikely D&D “dragonslayer” character – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players obsessed with unlikely D&D “dragonslayer” character Wizards of the CoastThe Baldur’s Gate 3 fanbase has rejoiced at the defeat of one of the game’s most powerful dragons, which was accomplished by the paws of an unlikely Dungeons & Dragons character. The Druid and Ranger class in many RPGs are known for their “pet” gameplay, where they fight alongside animals in battle. Baldur’s Gate 3 is no exception, especially with the Ranger’s Beast Master subclass, which gains an animal companion for the rest of the game. Throughout D&D’s history, many Rangers have fought alongside cool animals, like wolves or hawks. Perhaps the most famous Ranger is Drizzt Do’Urden from the D&D novels, whose animal companion is a magical panther. Not everyone gets a cool animal companion in D&D, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be effective in battle. The second most famous Ranger in D&D, Minsc, is notorious for having a tiny animal companion, but it has survived more adventures than most player characters. Boo the hamster slew a dragon in Baldur’s Gate 3 A user on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit has revealed how they defeated Ansur, the undead dragon in Act III. They did it with the help of Boo, the hamster, who managed to get a lucky shot while under the effects of the Bless spell, allowing it to kill the necrotic wyrm. “Don’t underestimate Boo, from the old games, he has fought Beholders, Liches, powerful wizards, several Bhaalspawns, demigods, powerful demons and more,” one player rightly pointed out, “At this point, a dracolich is just breakfast for him.” “Never underestimate a miniature giant space hamster. It’ll be the last thing you do,” one user wrote, while another said, “You’re an unlikely hero, Boo saved the world several times.” Several users repeated Minsc’s famous catchphrase, saying, “Go for the eyes Boo!” but as another user pointed out, “In this case… “go for the holes where the eyes should be,” as Ansur lacks eyes in his undead form. One of the worst aspects of Baldur’s Gate 3 is that you can’t recruit Minsc and Boo into your party until the end of the game, with a lot of players not bothering, as they already have an effective setup that they’ve used up to that point. If Baldur’s Gate 3 receives a major content update in the future, it will hopefully give players a chance to recruit Minsc a lot earlier, allowing Boo the opportunity to slay even more monsters.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players obsessed with Scooby Doo party creation – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players obsessed with Scooby Doo party creation Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 is one of those games that offers almost infinite number of ways to customize your character. One player managed to customize their party in the form of the members from the popular cartoon Scooby Doo and the community is obsessed with that. Baldur’s Gate 3 has one of the deepest and most intricately developed character customization systems. You can make your characters and your companions wear almost anything in the game and play with them in a way that you find preferable. As it happens, one player managed to customize their party in the form of the Scooby Doo cast. As expected, the party looks quite fascinating and players are obsessed over it, since everyone loves Scooby Doo no matter the person. Baldur’s Gate 3 players amazed at the Scooby Doo party creation The discussion surrounding this topic was started by a Reddit user named l_arlecchino. They posted a screenshot of their party with all the characters dressed as one member from the Scooby Doo cast. This post garnered a lot of attention from the community as everyone was in love with the designs. One such user commented, “Like, I’ve got a lot on my mind, man! And, well, in it. Ah haha.” The post owner also chimed in, “Forced to run Tactician because making Shaggy and Scoob subsist on 40 rations a night would be anti-RP.” As a reply to that, one of the players also mentioned, “I think it would still fit with the RP if you manually selected more supplies than what’s required for the long rest. It may even fit more because it shows them gorging on food well beyond what’s actually needed to survive.” There was one comment stating, “Bro I was just thinking a Mystery Inc playthrough with friends would be amazing. Get out of my head!” where they are planning their next run with characters from a different cartoon. There were also quite a few comments where players were asking the post owner about the classes they made for each character. Additionally, they were suggesting their ideas about the possible classes as well. Overall it was quite a positive discussion where everyone had valuable inputs and several funny remarks.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players obsessed with “most ridiculous” romance event – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players obsessed with “most ridiculous” romance event Larian StudiosRomance is one of the most fun aspects of Baldur’s Gate 3. You have the option to romance every companion in the game. However, there is one romance event that players feel is the most ridiculous of them all. Baldur’s Gate 3 is quite possibly one of the most interactive games that you can play. In this RPG, you are allowed to be anybody and do anything you want. As such, one of the most fun aspects of Baldur’s Gate 3 is its romance. This game offers a plethora of companions and each one of them requires a unique approach when it comes to romance. However, there is one romance event that players feel is ridiculous. Baldur’s Gate 3 players cannot get enough of this romance event The discussion surrounding the topic was started by a Reddit user who posted a meme with the title “The most ridiculous event in the game (Lae’zel love spoiler).” The idea behind this post is that Lae’zel challenges the player in a 1v1 duel if you are going for her romance quest. This duel is a serious one and you will be using everything to take her down. Other players found this quite funny since this is one romance quest that easily surpasses the others in terms of being ridiculous. One such player commented, “lol she only had half her HP left because the long rest wasn’t done yet and I one shotted her so hard she immediately got all hot and bothered at my barbarian might.” Another player chimed in, “When my husband got this scene his Tav just laid there and got decimated.” One player also claimed, “lose to her, it’s better. She gets all Tsundere confused about how she doesn’t want to fight each other and instead care for each other.” Finally, a user mentioned, “Yes because everyone wants their SO to challenge them in single combat to determine who tops and who bottoms.” Therefore, it is safe to say every player finds this interaction funny. While it is weird, this is one of the reasons why Baldur’s Gate 3 is such a beloved game for the players.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players obsessed with “most broken class in the game” – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players obsessed with “most broken class in the game” Larian StudiosOne Baldur’s Gate 3 subclass has proven itself as the “most broken class in the game,” leaving fans wondering why they chose anything else. One of the best things about Baldur’s Gate 3 is the ability to take almost any class, race, and design, and create something powerful. But one option seems to leave the rest in the dust, and the community is absolutely obsessed. The subclass comes from the Monk in the form of the Way of the Open Hand. This focuses on simple but incredibly deadly punches and is undeniably one of the most OP builds in Baldur’s Gate 3. This was echoed by the community on Reddit, with one player sharing that “Once I played OH Monk, the other subclasses felt weak” both slamming other builds and praising the powerful nature of the punchy subclass. “Trying to play a Shadow Monk Shadowheart and Four Elements Monk Gale on a current playthrough after just completing my first Honor Run using an Open Hand Monk Karlach. Even when trying to use them both as Tavern Brawlers, the Open Hand version just felt so much better,” added the player. They went on to explain that “those Topple Flurries, the ability to get another bonus action (while also regenerating ki), and the extra damage from Manifestations kind of make the other subclasses feel like they can’t compete. I’m not even sure the other subclasses actually do anything better than an Open Hand Monk.” The Open Hand Monk is a simple subclass to master, especially when up against the likes of Sorcerers, Wizards, and other spellcasting options. All they need to do is use Ki and tactical punches to utterly destroy the enemy. It helps that the OH Monk gets some impressive attacks through Flurry of Blows, gains necrotic damage to some of their hits, can easily gain hitpoints through Wholeness of Boy, and even sets off explosions with their punches. Players were quick to agree, with others adding on new ways to make the character even more powerful: “Open Hand Tavern Brawler Monk with unarmed attacks is completely OP. I ran it on my last playthrough. I could literally move around the entire map and I was maxing 4-5 hits a turn. Health wasn’t an issue because I would place buffs on my Monk before major fights to beef her up.” Others explained their experiences in Honour Mode: “On an Honour Mode run I literally swapped out a character for Halsin right before the Act 2 finale. I respecced Halsin into OH Monk 5 Thief 3 with Tavern Brawler with NO GEAR OR ARMOR and he basically solo’d Ketheric and Myrkul. The damage, the hit chance, and the double attack off a bonus action that topples. What can compete with that?” Ultimately, if you combine the Open Hand Monk with Tavern Brawler, you’ve created an incredibly powerful character that’s a lot like One Punch Man, or just a superhero in their own right. It’s well worth either trying this out in your next run or equipping one of your favorite companions with the class combo.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players obsessed with mom’s “Baldur’s Gate bowl” surprise – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players obsessed with mom’s “Baldur’s Gate bowl” surprise Larian StudiosA mother’s wholesome post brought the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit community together for a surprising goal: make Baldur’s Gate 3 into a Super Bowl-level event. Baldur’s Gate 3 has officially pivoted the popular RPG franchise into a cultural phenomenon. The dungeon slaying adventure, which has won multiple Game of the Year awards, is so big that it’s even seeping into pop culture. A lot of that popularity is thanks to its engrossing story, relatable characters, and the fleshed-out world they live in. As a result, the game has become popular with fans of all ages and backgrounds. Now, the mother of one fan is looking to do something Baldur’s Gate-themed in lieu of the Super Bowl and has asked Reddit for help making the occasion special. Mom’s wholesome Baldur’s Gate 3 surprise takes Reddit by storm In a post on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, user queenbee 8418 won over the community with a pretty straightforward request: help her be a cool mom to her Baldur’s Gate-loving daughter. “We’re not sports people and this Sunday since we won’t be watching the Super Bowl,” she said in her post. “I’m planning to surprise her and her Dad with a “Baldurs Gate Bowl.” I’m coming up with some fun challenges for them to do and earn points and make a sort of “tournament” style challenge out of it.” The Baldur’s Gate 3 community, who are already a fairly welcoming bunch, quickly found themselves obsessed with such a wholesome idea. “This is really sweet. I would have been floored if my mom ever took an interest like this.” one user said. “Can I be adopted please? I’m a 28-year-old woman with 3 kids of my own lmfao,” one user joked. Many of the challenges do pose some issues, with tasks like “quickest kill of a boss” and “x among of minutes to loot a dungeon” posing some technical and story limitations. Thankfully, community members were quick to offer fixes. “These are cute ideas and you’ve clearly put a lot of effort into it! However, is this the sort of thing your daughter would enjoy?” one user pointed out. “Some people do really go for achievements (and the game has achievements of its own, too), but with this type of game, a lot of people prefer taking their time to enjoy the scenery and characters and wouldn’t want to rush around completing challenges.” “You’d be better off, I think, playing Dungeons and Dragons – the pen-and-paper, dice-rolling tabletop role-playing game that the game’s rules draw from – where you can do most anything you imagine.” one user offered as a workaround. At the end of the day, it seems everyone enjoyed the ideas. Not least of all queenbee8418, who returned a few hours later to thank the Redditors who offered help. “I am genuinely overwhelmed by the kindness of this community,” she said. “Thank you ALL for your insight, tips, and cautions — you have been a huge help and I’m much more confident and even more excited to make this a special day.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 players obsessed with hilarious Orin quest idea – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players obsessed with hilarious Orin quest idea Larian StudiosOne Baldur’s Gate 3 player has highlighted a “missed opportunity” for Orin’s questline, and fans are obsessed with the new idea. In a game as expansive as Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s practically impossible to get everything right and how players would have liked it. Thankfully, according to high review scores, an substantial player base, and a community that loves to sing its praises, Baldur’s Gate 3 undeniably got most aspects of its game right. However, that doesn’t stop players from suggesting a few missed opportunities for certain quests. Now, one player has done just that, and fans love the idea so much that they’re now calling for it to be added in a future update. Baldur’s Gate 3 player suggests “hilarious” Orin quest changes Sharing the idea on Reddit, one user shared @meggannn’s Orin quest idea, explaining that there was a key “missed opportunity in BG3.” “missed opportunity in BG3 to have Orin transform as you and just be there when you arrive back at camp chilling with the companions you didn’t take that day, and you have a ‘prove who’s the real you’ scene where you have to roll to convince those not in your present team that you are who you say you are” shared the poster. While they can be frustrating to encounter, the ‘prove who’s the real you’ scenes are among some of the most memorable in gaming and can make the Orin quest all the more hilarious. Especially when the player highlighted that your standing with the companions would make the convincing easier or harder, and could sway the upcoming battle to take Orin down. Fans immediately fell in love with the idea, with many jumping to the comments to share how this quest could work. “If you have Scratch, he’d be able to smell the difference and be on your side, too” added one player, while another thought about the consequences of playing a Dark Urge in this scenario: “This would also be hilarious for a resist Durge too, cause I imagine orin would imitate how you used to act not realizing how much you’ve potentially changed.” It’s clear, fans adore this idea, so much so that one user hoped that “6 months from now, the Bhaalspawn rework patch” would arrive, making this dream a reality. While it seems unlikely to see such an overhaul of a key quest, this wouldn’t be the first time Larian Studios have made larger changes in their game, especially considering the addition of the epilogue, although that had less consequences than defeating Orin and many companions in one go.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players obsessed with “hilarious” Frank Reynolds edit – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players obsessed with “hilarious” Frank Reynolds edit Larian StudiosOne Baldur’s Gate 3 fan has edited Frank Reynolds from It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia into the game, and players are already obsessed. If there’s one thing that sets Baldur’s Gate 3 fans apart from other gaming communities, it’s their creativity. From amazing cosplays to fantastic artwork, the imagination of the playerbase is second to none. It’s understandable really, considering the scope and popularity of the game itself. There’s so much to love in Baldur’s Gate 3, from its epic quests, fantastic monologues, and immense character creation. After all, what’s better than creating the best character for the story and watching as they interact with all the lovable companions? Well, there is one thing better – watching Frank Reynolds as Tav. Baldur’s Gate 3 players can’t get over Frank Reynolds as Tav Sharing the hilarious edit on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit, one fan showed off It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’s Frank Reynolds, otherwise known as Danny DeVito, playing as Tav in some key cutscenes. The edit uses quotes from the show and perfectly places them into the edit, making for one of the funniest BG3 edits we’ve seen. “I need more of these omg” explained one fan in the comments, clearly echoing the majority of the community’s feelings, especially given the post has received over 14k likes as of the time of writing. Others were quick to comment on how much they loved the clever video: “I will never get tired of these crossover edits to BG3.” Others thought the ‘cameo’ was so perfect that they even demanded to “make a petition for Larian to hire him” for either the next game or to just be an NPC. Naturally, it’s unlikely we’ll ever see the legendary actor in a Baldur’s Gate 3 game, but if this is as close as we can get, not many fans will complain. While this was posted on the Reddit page, you can find the original video here which was expertly made by eli_handle_b․wav who also creates plenty of other similar videos.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players obsessed with fan’s in-game Valentines proposal – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players obsessed with fan’s in-game Valentines proposal Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players are swooning after one fan used the game to ask his partner to be his Valentine in the most adorable way. Romance is a heavy aspect of Baldur’s Gate 3, and players can’t get enough of the game’s companions and romance options. After all, with such a fleshed-out story and personalities, it’s hard not to fall in love with the adorable nature of Karlach or the flirtatious lines of Astation. However, one player took the romance away from the companions and used the game to ask his real life partner to be his valentines – and it’s just absolutely adorable. Baldur’s Gate 3 player uses game to ask partner to be his Valentine Sharing the adorable gesture on Reddit, one user revealed how their boyfriend chose to ask them to be his valentine. In the image, they revealed how their “bf wouldn’t stop asking me to play and I loaded into this” revealing the ‘Be My Valentine?’ letters spelled out in camp, using weapons, and a healing potion for the question mark. Naturally, fans adored this romantic sentiment, with many swooning over the boyfriend’s attention to detail and dedication. “He’s a keeper” commented one user, with many others echoing their statement. Others labeled it as “adorable” and urged the poster to say yes, especially given how long it likely took to make. Many fans spotted the adorable attention to detail, highlighting how they “love how the question mark is made up of healing potions in case you say no and he needs to heal his broken heart” although from the sounds of it, it doesn’t seem like they have to worry, as the poster likely said yes. While many found the creation extremely cute, it’s clearly now set a few new standards that need to be met for Valentine’s Day: “Does anyone know how to recreate this? I absolutely need to do this for my boyfriend.” Few things are as creative as a cute Valentine’s Day proposal, but you can hardly go wrong when incorporating Baldur’s Gate 3 into it.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players obsessed with cursed “Gyll” creation – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players obsessed with cursed “Gyll” creation Larian StudiosOne creative Baldur’s Gate 3 player has created another cursed hybrid companion – but this time, they’ve apparently made the character hotter. After the success of their nightmare fuel “Shartarion” creation, one creative fan has returned to the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit to share their “Gyll” design, expertly merging Wyll and Gale to form one questionable companion. “Gyll as requested. I might get canceled for this” added the poster, clearly understanding the outrage they may get from such a cursed design. However, it seems the community’s love for the companions knows no bounds, as those who could have been disgusted thought he looked attractive. “Am I the only one who thinks he looks cool and pretty attractive” commented one user, with plenty more heading to the comments to add “No, you are not alone” or that Gyll is “More hot than cool.” Interestingly, some fans thought the creations made him look “like an interesting character who has a backstory etc. A bit villain energy perhaps” which could be why the previous fans found him attractive. After all, everyone loves a good villain. While many found the design to be impressive, some called Gyll an “Eldritch horror” while another added that “He makes my skin crawl he looks like such an evil creep. (I love both Gayle and Wyll too!)” Ultimately, there’s a reason the companions look how they do, and combining two people into one like this is bound to raise some eyebrows. Still, it’s purely typical of the BG3 community to have a crush on any version of the game’s loveable companions.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players not happy with mods that make characters more “beautiful” – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players not happy with mods that make characters more “beautiful” Larian StudiosSeveral Baldur’s Gate 3 players have criticized mods for the game that attempt to make party members more “conventionally beautiful”, saying that it makes them “irrationally angry”. The characters who can make up your party in Baldur’s Gate 3 are undeniably the game’s strongest selling point. The unique designs, impressive performances, and realistic writing have made characters like Astarion and Shadowheart instantly recognizable, and even NPCs like Alfira receive similar praise. Considering how popular these characters are, it’s only natural that players are defensive of their designs and backstory, especially when aspects like a character’s race or class play such an important part in their personal story and behavior. Can you imagine what it would be like if Lae’zel wasn’t Githyanki, or if Astarion wasn’t a vampire spawn? This is why some mods, which are designed to change how characters look (usually the female ones), are getting so much hate from the community. It doesn’t help that many of these mods alter defining character traits. Baldur’s Gate 3 players slam mod that changes party member faces One of the more offensive examples recently popped up on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, where Minthara’s imperious drow features were replaced with a more docile and “conventionally attractive” look. We’ve also seen examples where Lae’zel’s Githyanki facial structure was remodeled to give her a more human-shaped nose. Player reactions to these changes have been noticeably negative, with the post reading: “Mods like this make me irrationally angry. “At the end of the day, I don’t care if people use those mods. It’s their game. Whatever. But every time I see it I cringe a bit. Like, ‘What did they do to you?’” Another player compared the mod to a K-pop face edit, saying: “Minthara is already gorgeous. I really hate the insta-baddie mods for companions and wouldn’t change the uniqueness of them personally.” For more news and updates on Baldur’s Gate 3, check out how one player managed to make so many mistakes they ended up accidentally creating an evil playthrough.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players never cast these useful spells – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players never cast these useful spells Larian StudiosThere are over 600 spells in Baldur’s Gate 3. As such, some classes have a lot to think about regarding combat or adventuring. Especially given the uses of each spell. However, some of the most useful spells are completely ignored by the community, for good reason. The biggest problem with spells in both Dungeons & Dragons and Baldur’s Gate 3 is that most of them are either consistently useful or only work in extremely niche situations. Combine that with the action economy of both adventures and you have plenty of seemingly ‘useful’ powers that just aren’t worth the effort. This was echoed by the Baldur’s Gate 3 community, after a post on Reddit sparked multiple experienced players revealing the spells that just aren’t worth adding to your list, regardless of their uses. “What are some spells and abilities you recognize as being useful or beneficial, but you never use?” asked one player. Shortly after, hundreds took to the comments to share the likes of Dominate Beast, Eyebite, Protection from Evil & Good, Polymorph, or even Bless, slamming their misleading powers. “Dominate Beast seems really useful in a crowd control situation, but by the time you have it, there are not many beasts to use it on” shared the poster, revealing that the higher level spell drops off considerably when you get around to using it. Others highlighted the niche uses of Protection from Evil & Good, with some explaining that it’s “saved an Honour run against Myrkul” but then is “forgettable anywhere else.” Interestingly, plenty of players noted the fact that they never use Polymorph due to the possibility of it not working. One user commented that players are better off if they “just cast Hold Person or even better, Dominate Person, so they can do some damage and take some damage from enemy.” While all those spells are certainly useful in some situations, they do require some pretty specific circumstances. Despite this, Bless was one of the top spells to appear, with many expressing that, while it’s an “amazing spell in tabletop and an excellent use of concentration here too. It’s hard to give up the action economy though if, like me, you constantly forget to precast before combat.” Another added that Bless just feels “like a waste of an action.” While Bless is certainly a pain if you forget to cast it, there are some fantastic alternatives that last a lot longer, like Death Ward, Heroes’ Feast, Aid, and more. Unfortunately, despite their uses on paper, some spells just aren’t as strong as they look and are much better avoided.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players narrow down list for new Origin characters – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players narrow down list for new Origin characters Wizards of the CoastBaldur’s Gate 3 players want specific party members and NPCs to be added as new Origin characters for future playthroughs. Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian Studios clearly put a lot of work into the Origin characters, as these let you play as the established party members, with new intros and additional quests for you to follow so you can tell their story. Many people went for The Dark Urge and the Custom versions of the protagonist at launch, as they wanted to explore Baldur’s Gate 3 with a character of their own creation. The Origin characters tend to be more popular for later playthroughs after players have already encountered the characters in-game. The Origin characters include most of the Baldur’s Gate 3 party members, but not all of them. There are also prominent NPCs that players want to see added to the roster, even if that means making them the protagonists of a whole new story. Baldur’s Gate 3 players want Alfira, Minsc, and Minthara to become new Origin characters A user on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit created a thread asking which characters the fans would love to see added as choices for an Origin Tav. The responses included a lot of ridiculous choices, like the Emperor, Volo, and Scratch the Dog, but a few names quickly gained popularity. Among the playable heroes, Minsc the Ranger (and Boo the Hamster) had a lot of supporters. “Probably Minsc because he comes so damn late that I never care to use him,” one user wrote, while another said, “Minsc – Only if Narrated by Boo! Would require a decent rewrite of the Stone Lord quests though.” Despite being a playable villain, Minthara was a popular choice. “Yeah Minthara would make the most sense bc she can actually join the party and is affected by the main plot,” one user said, while another had an idea, “Minthara. Change it so she finds Shadowheart after the crash and her mind becomes clear.” The most surprising choice was Alfira, a Tiefling Bard who isn’t playable in the game. “Probably Alfira,” a user explained, “Another support class instead of pretty much having to run Shadowheart if you want healing in your party without respecing someone else or playing support yourself.” Larian Studios intends to support Baldur’s Gate 3, but how the story could proceed through DLC is unclear. Maybe the studio could expand Baldur’s Gate 3 with more Origins, giving players new ways to experience the familiar story, and give different fates for the characters.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players name the best romance option in the game – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players name the best romance option in the game Larian StudiosOne of Baldur’s Gate 3‘s most enduring features is the ability to forge relationships with and romance many of the game’s characters. As such, debate around who is the best pick has raged since the start, but many in the community have now reached a consensus. In a post on Reddit, one player shared their belief that Gale is the best romance option in the game, before asking the rest of the community for their opinions. Happily, many agreed, sharing their reasoning behind why they love the wizard. One said, “Gale, I bought the game for Astarion, but Gale stole my heart. He’s so delightfully charming in a dorky way, and I just love him so much. Plus, he’s got a cat, a library, and he can cook!” Another added, “Gale. Man, he would even love you as a worm if you go squid. In terms of actual romance, Gale is just so amazing. Man will literally give you godhood if you trust in him. It’s just so incredibly sweet.” A third shared how Gale’s normality makes him stand out in the unusual environs of Faerun. They said, “Gale. He’s the most normal and… standard relationship post-game. Marriage? His family and your family getting together? Him settling down and becoming a teacher? You doing whatever, being an adventurer or a stay-at-home.” Though there were many strong arguments for other characters among the responses, Gale came up more consistently than any other. This may come as a surprise, with characters like Shadowheart often seen as the relationship that the game pushes players towards. Despite the developer moving on to other projects without releasing any DLC, there is still plenty to come for players in Baldur’s Gate 3. Update 7 is set to roll out in September, with more features promised beyond that.

Baldur’s Gate 3 player’s mom starts playthrough and community is obsessed – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 player’s mom starts playthrough and community is obsessed Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 has a far-reaching community and sometimes players outside of the standard group will end up touching the game and love it in the end. A similar incident happened when the mother of a fan picked up the game and was having the time of her life. The fan initiated the discussion on Reddit and claimed that their “mother is playing BG3 and it is great.” They posted a few aspects of her gameplay where she has been making funny comments on characters like Wyll while feeling confused about the entire thing. However, this is something that fans have found very funny and they are obsessed with it. One such player commented, “Meanwhile my mom managed to find the path to godhood. Wasn’t even one of the endings until halfway through our run. Shes always saying she is God and this did not help her ego.” Another user chimed in, “your mom and i had the same reaction to meeting Gale!! hopefully she gets to go on a similar journey as i did, slowly falling in love with him bit by bit.” One player also stated, “Have a World’s Coolest Mom award!” Finally, one of the users claimed, “She’s going to kill Grym without the forge hammer, I can tell.” Therefore, it is safe to mention that most players enjoyed this interaction. This is the beauty of Baldur’s Gate 3 as it is a game that has the kind of content that encapsulates everyone irrespective of their likes or dislikes.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players love this “useless” magical item – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players love this “useless” magical item Larian StudiosOne Baldur’s Gate 3 player discovered a fantastic “useless” magical item and fans just can’t seem to get enough of it. With an adventure that’s over 100 hours long for many, it’s only natural to assume there are tons of things to do throughout the Baldur’s Gate 3 campaign. Thankfully, you’d be absolutely right, as there are plenty of quests, NPCs, locations, and items to discover, with each providing its own unique flair to an already expansive storyline. However, not all elements provide a meaningful impact on the game, and some additions are leaving players baffled – even if they’re quickly falling in love with the “useless” magical item. Baldur’s Gate 3 players can’t get enough of “useless” magical item Sharing their discovery on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit, one player revealed the Stool of Hill Giant Strength, which seems to be a magically infused chair. “How the hell is that useful to me?” they added, clearly questioning what they could do with this weird magical item. Thankfully, other players knew exactly what to do with it, with tons heading to the comments to tell the poster to simply “throw the stool” while another added “It’s useless! You should break it!” One player suggested: “You can sit on it to temporarily gain its effects. Or break it.” Interestingly, breaking it is exactly what you’re supposed to do, as breaking the still will grant the player a stool leg, which can be used as a club. Then, whoever wields the club will have their strength increased to 19, making it an ideal weapon. It seems the odd Stool of Hill Giant Strength is far from “useless” once you break it, and if you come across this magical item, it’s always worth either throwing it at an enemy or simply breaking it for the extra weapon.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players love this “underrated” companion dynamic – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players love this “underrated” companion dynamic Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players are obsessed with one “underrated” companion dynamic that just seems to work so well, despite the characters clashing at first glance. Certain personalities usually get along better with people similar to them. For example, an extroverted person will likely get on well with someone equally as outgoing, or a person who enjoys gaming will be able to gel well with people of similar interests. Such a notion extends to games like Baldur’s Gate 3, with certain NPCs, players, and companions getting along quite badly with those completely different from them. For example, Lae’zel and Shadowheart often fight due to their differing personalities. However, one friendship is entirely unexpected and just seems to work so well, with many players now praising the “underrated” dynamic between two favorite companions. “underrated” Baldur’s Gate 3 companion dynamic shocks players Sharing an unlikely friendship, one fan posted a conversation between Lae’zel and Gale on Reddit, revealing their funny dynamic. In the conversation, the two companions were discussing fireworks and the rather “short fuses” of gnomes. During the exchange, Lae’zel is seen joking around with Gale, which is pretty unheard of to many Tav’s that haven’t romanced her. “Love how it’s with Gale that Lae’zel loosens up to that she even cracks a joke” shared the player, revealing just how rare it is to see her act like this, especially in front of a personality extremely unlike her own. While many players deemed the collaboration to be “underrated” other fans highlighted just how well a relationship could blossom between the two personalities. “I honestly think Lae’zel and Gale would make a phenomenal couple” commented one user, going on to say how the two “both genuinely love to learn and explore, and I can just see Lae’zel making Gale feel like he’s enough the way he is through her blunt honesty and conviction. On the flip side, his gestures of deep romantic affection are Lae’zel’s actual love language. I can only imagine she’d find the weave scene truly touching.” Others shared how much they “love the dynamic between Gale and Lae’zel” adding how “they are a genuine joy to listen to because she really wants to learn from him and she comes across as enjoying teaching him.” Curiosity seems to be the primary reason why the two work so well, and why they may just be one of the most unlikely and underrated pairings in the game.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players love the game’s “optimal” useless equipment – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players love the game’s “optimal” useless equipment Larian StudiosWhile there are plenty of rare and powerful items in Baldur’s Gate 3, players are amused by a seemingly good but useless piece of equipment. Like many other RPGs, Baldur’s Gate 3 has lots of items for players to collect. Outside of Legendary weapons, spell scrolls, and armor, you’re bound to pick up plenty of junk that’s only good for selling to vendors for some gold. Among these are the game’s fishing rods. Though fishing mini-games have become common in video games of late, Baldur’s Gate 3 doesn’t actually have one. Still, Larian Studios has given players reasons to interact with some useless items thanks to clever item descriptions, including one that has players amused. Baldur’s Gate 3 fishing rod teases a helpful effect Reddit user Immrlonely98 shared a screenshot of the Fishing Rod of Alertness, calling it the “Most optimal piece of equipment in the game.” Based on the item’s name, description and uncommon status, it at first appears to be more useful than other fishing rods. It says “The wielder of this rod cannot be Surprised,” referencing a status condition that gives the opponent an additional round of combat. Posts from the baldursgate3 community on Reddit Having immunity to Surprised is really useful, but the item does come with a pretty big caveat: “unless something unexpected happens.” That, of course, is the very definition of surprise, making the Fishing Rod of Alertness just as useless as every other rod in the game. It’s a pretty funny joke item, but at least one player was fooled by it. “I actually bought this in my first playthrough and was surprised when got ambushed,” said one commenter, prompting another to joke “All sales are final.” For those who actually want a way to avoid being surprised, the Alert feat does that while also giving an incredibly helpful +5 boost to Initiative. Others have pointed out additional useless items with funny names or descriptions, such as the Ring of Resistance to Ants. “Needless to say, I’ve never been bothered by ants,” said one player. Items like these are pretty minor and easy to overlook in a game as huge as Baldur’s Gate 3, but it speaks to the attention to detail put into every aspect of the game and why it has won so many Game of the Year awards. Baldur’s Gate 3 players love taking advantage of Orpheus – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players love taking advantage of Orpheus Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players are revealing how despite helping Orpheus more often than not, it’s not because they like him as a character. The decision to save Orpheus in Baldur’s Gate 3 is an important one that players must make near the end of the game. And many players seem to go the route of helping the Githyanki in order to stop the Elder Brain from taking over the realm. However, not all Baldur’s Gate 3 players are doing this because they like Orpheus. Rather, they like what he can offer them. Orpheus is a pretty angry character, and whether or not that is justified, it doesn’t seem to be sitting well with a lot of fans. But he also offers several benefits for those who help him out. One reason fans say they assist Orpheus is because fan-favorite character Lae’zel, another Githyanki, is working to help free him. Many people are simply wanting to see Lae’zel accomplish her goals and be happy, rather than caring about Orpheus as a person. The other big reason appears to be that while many fans don’t like Orpheus, they dislike the Emperor even more. Their distaste is so powerful that one user on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit said “I was done with lying, gaslighting Squidward.” There is also the fact that many view the way the story wraps up when freeing Orpheus as more complete since keeping the Emperor around feels like a “loose end.” It also not comforting having a Mindflayer out in the world. Now, many do point to the fact that Orpheus has been imprisoned for quite some time, and that may influence why he is so angry. But it doesn’t seem to be enough of an excuse for many players: “And that’s why I’ll never free this frog f***er again,” writes someone else. It’s certainly a begrudging partnership, but one that Baldur’s Gate 3 fans seem more than happy to take advantage of.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players love Karlach’s “savage” Dark Urge clapback – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players love Karlach’s “savage” Dark Urge clapback Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 doesn’t hold back on its “savage” lines at the best of times, but there’s little funnier than seeing Karlach clapback a Dark Urge character in a fantastically brutal fashion. One of the best elements of Baldur’s Gate 3 is its creativity. It feels like Larian has thought of everything, creating hilarious voice lines, cutscenes, and consequences for all the player’s impulsive desires. After all, that’s why the Dark Urge character was created, to help those fans who love acting on impulse and just seeing what would happen if the player was evil. However, just because the player is using a Dark Urge character doesn’t mean the companions are particularly happy about it, and some, like Karlach, won’t hold back their distrust and petty comments just because the player is evil. Baldur’s Gate 3 players can’t get over Karlach’s “savage” comment Sharing the brutal comment on Reddit, one user explained how “There is a quest in act 2 where you judge a dead person. My dark urge character (on redemption path) said “you didn’t mean to hurt your friends? How laughable!”. Karlach just had to comment “pot meet kettle”. The task in question puts the player in the position of judging a dead NPC who ‘killed their friends’ and wants to repent. Naturally, if you’re playing a Dark Urge character, it’s pretty ironic to judge someone in that situation. The player followed on to say how they’ll “admit I tried to kill her a few nights ago. But I resisted! No need to throw it at my face in every opportunity.” Naturally, the comments were filled with fans praising Karlach, with many stating how “that’s f***ing hilarious” and how they “love it when characters have enough reactivity to call you on your blatant bulls**t.” However, others began sharing the funny comments Karlach had said in their games, with some explaining that their “favorite lines from Karlach are when you break it off with her, to date Astarion, and she starts talking about sharpening stakes.” While Karlach may be a fan favorite, it’s clear she’s loved for more than just her badass looks. After all, who can’t love a character that’s not afraid to joke about your mistakes once in a while?

Baldur’s Gate 3 players love how “terrifying” Act 2 actually is – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players love how “terrifying” Act 2 actually is Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 has multiple Acts and at least one of them will leave a mark on you due to the depth in the story. However, players have fallen in love with Act 2 on account of its terrifying horror vibes. Baldur’s Gate 3 has an amazing story mode that takes hours to complete. You will often have to play the game multiple times to go through each and every story bit that this title has to offer. However, the stories as a whole are locked within Acts. Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3 has quite a bit of horror content as the game takes you to the Shadow Cursed Lands. As it happens, players are quite happy with this as they have fallen in love with how terrifying this section is. Baldur’s Gate 3 players praise the horror vibes of Act 2 The discussion surrounding the topic was initiated by a player who mentioned that, “After playing Alien Isolation I didn’t think another game would creep me out that much.”This Reddit user felt the entire section where the player has to play hide and seek with Oliver was quite terrifying and they loved it. Other users joined in the conversation as well since a lot of them have similar ideas. One such user mentioned, “Act 2 is such a treasure for horror vibes throughout.” Another user chimed in, “That was like my first realization how depressing act 2 was going to be.” One player also claimed, “Just read a note last night from a boy to his mom about being brave and not scared of the dark. That was…rough.” Finally, a player commented about the House of Healing claiming, “That place is the stuff of nightmares. I wish it wasn’t necessary to cure the shadowcurse, otherwise I’d skip it every time.” Horror is an element that is quite hard to execute, but Baldur’s Gate 3 does so quite well in Act 2. It is safe to say that players in the community agree with this idea as well since almost everyone felt terrified and satisfied with the horror elements of this game.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players love extra difficulty mode changes in Patch 7 – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players love extra difficulty mode changes in Patch 7 Larian StudiosLarian Studios has listened as a fan-requested change to Baldur’s Gate 3’s Honour Mode is on its way, alongside alterations to the other difficulty modes in the game. Baldur’s Gate 3 is a mostly accurate representation of the D&D 5e rules. Despite this, a significant monster mechanic from the tabletop game, Legendary Actions, can only be found in Honour Mode, Baldur’s Gate 3’s ultra-difficult Ironman mode. Legendary Actions allow boss monsters to perform extra moves at the end of a player character’s turn. Not only does this make them a lot stronger, but they have a chance to react to the party and not get overwhelmed by the action economy. Currently, Legendary Actions are restricted to Honour Mode, but that’s changing. Larian Studios has announced that the (delayed) Patch 7 update will let you use the stronger enemies from Honour Mode in other difficulty options. Fans on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit are thrilled with the change. “I just started another play through but hearing Honor Mode coming to Custom Mode really makes me want to put it on pause until it comes out,” one user wrote, “Always wanted to go through it but the single save is what deterred me.” “Omg we can have Honour Mode rules in Custom!!! Finally omg I’ve been waiting for so long!,” another user wrote, while one said, “HOORAY. I’ve just been wishing I could play Honor mode but without the single save feature.” There’s another issue with the current Honor Mode that one fan raises, “Let’s go!! Came here to post this. I play through Geforce Now and single save is not a viable option, super excited to do custom with Honor rules!!” Not only can other rulesets use the Legendary Actions from Honour Mode, but some enemies will also receive new ones. These include Dror Ragzlin gaining the ability to befriend giant spiders and the Bulette learning a power called “Shredding Scales,” which doesn’t sound pleasant. Those wanting to do yet another run of Baldur’s Gate 3 with these options will have to wait, as Patch 7 is still in development, so it might be best to hold off rather than attempt another deadly Honour Mode playthrough.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players love creepy “Resident Evil” style location – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players love creepy “Resident Evil” style location Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 has taken a leaf out of the horror genre with its creepy Resident Evil-style location that has players obsessed and slightly unnerved. At its core, Baldur’s Gate 3 is an epic fantasy game, taking its style from Dungeons & Dragons. During the game you explore love and heartbreak and take part in some epic battles, but they’re not always the most memorable aspects of the expansive RPG. Often, it’s the locations that truly stick in a player’s mind, whether that’s heading into the Underdark for the first time, entering Baldur’s Gate in all its grandeur, struggling through the tricky Trials of Shar, or accidentally wandering into a scene straight from Resident Evil. Baldur’s Gate 3 players adore one key creepy location “Seriously. The House of Healing is creepy AF” posted one Baldur’s Gate 3 player on Reddit, sharing a meme explaining: “When you walk into the House of Healing and the game turns from Dungeons and Dragons into Resident Evil.” The House of Healing is certainly one of the creepier locations in Baldur’s Gate 3 and features a disturbing hospital filled with undead nurses and a rather offputting head surgeon. In typically Resident Evil fashion, it all gets so much worse the more you explore, and players typically witness some truly horrific scenes in that building as well as it being a pretty important plot point for Arabella. The poster wasn’t the only one who found the whole location to be a little freaky, as one user commented: “Super creepy yes. The nurse over Arabella’s parents probably bothers me the most, honestly.” Interestingly, one user revealed that it almost feels worse with that specific nurse as “She honestly seems like she’s trying so hard to be a good nurse and help them. Her mind is just so f***ked.” While some thought it paid homage to Resident Evil, others thought the location was “more Silent Hill than Resident Evil honestly. The zombie nurses was a tad on the nose” although some thought it was probably an intentional nod from Larian. Regardless, many fans adored the location, with some even wanting it to be “bigger and crazier.” Either way, for a lot of fans, despite its creepy nature, it’s certainly memorable and a favorite location for tons of players.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players love Act 3’s “level 1” D&D side-quest – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players love Act 3’s “level 1” D&D side-quest Larian StudiosOne Baldur’s Gate 3 side-quest has amused players by essentially being a level-one D&D task snuck into the late-game. Baldur’s Gate 3 borrows a lot from Dungeons & Dragons, taking plenty of mechanics and lore from 5e. While certainly playable for those who have never played a TTRPG before, D&D players will immediately recognize the game’s classes, iconic monsters and more. Beyond that, much of the game’s overwhelmingly praised freedom and options come from its tabletop inspirations. D&D players are known for creative, often absurd problem-solving, which Baldur’s Gate 3 manages to replicate even without a human Dungeon Master to keep things moving. Now, players are drawing attention to a side-quest that feels like it’s pulled straight from a first D&D session – except it doesn’t happen until pretty late in the game. Even Baldur’s Gate 3’s Journal thinks Act 3 quest is ridiculous As shared by Reddit user almostb, one Baldur’s Gate side-quest gives players a pretty simple task: kill rats that are in the basement of Elfsong Tavern. This is a pretty typical first quest for a new Dungeons & Dragons campaign. Rats are very basic foes that are perfect for level 1 parties and new DMs learning to run combat. But what makes it so noteworthy in Baldur’s Gate 3 is that the tavern in question isn’t accessible until Act 3 when players are likely at or near the game’s level cap. The fact that the quest comes so late means completing it will likely be a walk in the park. While there are dozens of rats in the basement, each only has 1 HP, so you’ll get through them pretty quickly if you have any area-of-effect spells like Fireball or Spirit Guardians at your disposal. As one player put it, “they gave us a Level 1 ah side quest at like… Level 11.” The commenter also assumed the task was a “red herring” with a much more difficult foe waiting to catch the party off-guard. But while there are more secrets hidden in Elfsong Tavern’s basement, this particular quest is as straightforward as they come. Making things even more amusing is the Journal entry for the task, which includes the line, “It’s not clear why he can’t just do this himself…” As the poster jokes, “even the journal description questions why you’re doing the sidequest.” Given how much is at stake in Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s clear killing rats in Elfsong Tavern’s basement is both a poor use of the party’s time and a very easy win.

Baldur’s Gate 3 player’s looting leads to comical NPC death – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 player’s looting leads to comical NPC death Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 is one of those games where secrets are hidden in every corner of the world. Therefore, it is natural for players to loot anything and everything they can find. One such looting session led to the death of an NPC, but the players found the way it happened comical. Baldur’s Gate 3 is a massive game and it has loot spread all across the world. Therefore, as a player, you will have to spend a lot of time searching for loot to ensure that you do not miss something crucial. However, there are times when loot searching can go wrong. As it happens, one such player came across a similar scenario where they ended up killing an NPC while searching for loot. However, instead of being sad about the mistake they made, the player was quite happy since the death was extremely comical. Baldur’s Gate 3 comes across a hilarious way to kill an NPC The discussion regarding this topic was started by a Reddit user named RD_Life_Enthusiast. The user posted, “I have a bad habit of doing area search and just clicking on everything in the area to speed up looting…that is, until I got to the village ruins and the goblins torturing the deep gnome on the windmill.” They continued, “The first item in area search looting was the release brake lever. IT CHUCKS HIM INTO THE F*****G STRATOSPHERE. Oh my God, Larian – seriously?” They also mentioned, “I laughed about that for the next 15 minutes. I was unhappy about having to load a save and replay about 15 minutes of prior content (edit: so I could actually save him), but TOTALLY WORTH IT.” Other players also found it funny as some of them had a similar experience. One such Reddit user commented, “I am 100% certain they put the word “release” on that lever knowing a lot of players wouldn’t think it through.” Another user chimed in, “I think the majority of us in our first playthrough launched the gnome into orbit by mistake.” One player also mentioned, “It’s funny I guess but he is a pretty key npc so I suggest you rescue him.” Lastly, a Reddit user claimed, “If it makes you feel better, Neil Newbon (Astarion) and many of us have done the same thing.” Therefore, it seems like this is a common mistake that has happened to a lot of players. However, the NPC is important and even though it might be funny, it is better that you save him by replaying the section.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players look back on their fastest Honour Mode fails – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players look back on their fastest Honour Mode fails Larian StudiosThe Baldur’s Gate 3 community can all share in their misery from losing an Honor Mode run that lasted far too short. Members of the Baldur’s Gate 3 community are reminiscing about their Honour Mode runs to find the shortest one possible. Despite its aim to ease players into the world of the game, the first act has plenty of dangers that can cause trouble if people aren’t careful. The community is learning of these dangers quickly as they talk about the ways they’ve brought their permadeath mode runs to an end. A Baldur’s Gate 3 fan made a post on the game’s subreddit where they claim to have brought their Honour Mode to an end with the “fastest Honour Mode fail” they’ve ever seen. To summarize their story, they explain: “Friend joins honor mode makes entire grove angry because he didn’t wanna be racist to humans and the Sazza cut scene sealed my run.” While this is certainly a quick way to end their run in Baldur’s Gate 3, the other players have their own stories that are far quicker. “Just today I died to the Intellect Devourers right after waking Shadowheart up. I was streaming it too… Honour Mode is no joke.” From the stories being told in the thread, it’s clear that there is a lot that can kill you before you even reach the actual meat of the game. However, there is one story that seems to take the crown for the fastest possible way to die after starting the game: “I did read about someone dying in the first room of the nautiloid. Wild Magic Sorcerer, decided casting Mage Armour was a good idea. Wild Magic summoned a Mephit and the OP proceeded to be murdered by said Mephit,” one person revealed. Baldur’s Gate 3’s ability to provide stories of failure like these are part of what makes the game so popular.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players learn stealth isn’t always the way to go after skipping major story arc – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players learn stealth isn’t always the way to go after skipping major story arc Larian StudiosStealth in Baldur’s Gate 3 isn’t always the best decision, as it can lead to players missing out on a few vital quests – as one fan recently discovered. Whether you’re playing DnD or Baldur’s Gate 3, stealth can often be seen as a key technique when approaching combat, or even heists. After all, if you’re not seen, you’re not attacked, and if you’re not attacked, you can either get the drop on an enemy or grab the item you need without rolling for initiative. However, as one player recently learned, stealth can also be a bad thing, as it can lead to a few vital quests being completely missed. One such quest is the Steel Watcher Foundry, which is a truly unforgettable adventure where you meet the infuriating Gondians and their families. During the quest, you’re tasked with destroying the Steel Watcher Foundry by blowing it up and wiping out everything inside, aside from the innocent civilians. However, one user shared their misfortune in the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit, revealing how unpractical stealth is in this situation. Essentially, one player ran into the Foundry with the bomb and some invisibility positions and successfully blew up the building without alerting any enemies. While this was certainly efficient, it means they missed out on the entire Gondian arc of the story, all thanks to the use of stealth. As previously mentioned, stealth is a useful skill in Baldur’s Gate 3, especially if you’re a rogue, but it can cause you to miss out on some major quests, so be sure to use it wisely. That being said, at least it means the second playthrough will have something entirely different—and your game could, too, if you choose stealth during some adventures.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players lack remorse for NPC death despite heartbreaking letter – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players lack remorse for NPC death despite heartbreaking letter DexertoOne Baldur’s Gate 3 NPC drops a letter upon defeat that may make you regret your actions and reload an old save, but surprisingly, many players aren’t moved. Larian Studios left many devastating letters to players throughout its D&D RPG, such as Dammon’s letter about Karlach in the epilogue. Some notes have also been called “nightmare-fuel” and unsettled players more than anything else. In this case, upon defeating a Fist of Bane member named Gasper in Act 3, players can read a letter from his mother congratulating her son on landing a job with a future. The letter explained how Gasper’s father was proud of him for carrying on the Throaks name and was taking her out to Elfsong Tavern to celebrate. Although the Reddit poster felt dejected, as denoted by the sad emoticon in the title of the post, the majority of the replies weren’t remorseful in the slightest. Why would this be the case? Well, although fans may believe Gasper to be entirely innocent, many comments pointed out the fact that the NPC is a Fist of Bane member, meaning he works for Gortash. Gortash is one of the three main villains of Baldur’s Gate 3, and it wouldn’t be hard to believe that his foot soldiers know just how corrupt he is. “[H]e’s not just some innocent man in over his head,” one reply explained, “he’s in deep and probably firmly believes in what he’s doing or he would never have made it that far.” Another stated that if the player hid just out of sight before triggering the fight they could hear Gasper telling another guard not to feel bad for killing or hurting the Gondians, who are slaves and prisoners of the Iron Throne. Interestingly, fans may also feel a lack of guilt after visiting Elfsong Tavern where Gasper’s parents are dining. “You can find out his mom is cheating on his dad with Tamia Holzt,” a response detailed, “and then she decides to very publicly leave him for her.” It’s clear that Baldur’s Gate 3 fans know to think twice before feeling regretful about an NPC death, as not everyone is who they may seem to be.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players label brutal cat rejection as “most humiliating insult” – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players label brutal cat rejection as “most humiliating insult” Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 has NPCs who have unique personalities. They will praise you for every heroic deed and insult you if they feel like it. One such insult arrived when a cat rejected a player and they have called it the “most humiliating insult”. Baldur’s Gate 3 has a plethora of NPCs and you will often get to interact with them. Most of these NPCs are heavily fleshed out in the game and have interesting quests attached to them. In fact, you can also bring quite a lot of NPCs to join you in your adventure. As it happens, NPCs have personalities and they will pass comments based on your actions. These comments can be good or insulting depending on what you do. One such player has recently faced an insult from a cat as it called them “immature”. Baldur’s Gate 3 players discuss the insults from NPCs The discussion regarding insults was started by a player named why_not_zoidberg. The player asked others to tell about the most humiliating NPC insults in Baldur’s Gate 3. They also shared their own experience where a cat turned them down by calling them immature. Other players joined in the discussion and one of them commented “It’s not you, it’s me… I have standards”. Another player replied “The Djinn at the circus who calls you ugly”. One player responded “If you ask Shovel what fetid hole he crawled out of, he says “Your daddy!”. Lastly, a player commented, “The random Dwarf in Act 3 singing about washing his pits while standing in the open, Called me a pervert”. Therefore, it seems like the cat was just one of many NPCs that will insult you depending on your behavior or your dialogue choices. Naturally, most of these insults have very little impact on the game, but it makes the world feel more alive.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players keen to adopt another camp pet – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players keen to adopt another camp pet Larian StudiosFans of Baldur’s Gate 3 want to bring a new pet back to their camp. Please let them keep it, Larian. They promise they’ll feed it and walk it and give it scritches every day. After an intense battle or some high-stakes dialogue, there’s really nothing no better way to decompress than kicking it with your pets. Scratch and the owlbear cub are already two well-established good boys in the hearts of Baldur’s Gate 3 fans. However, players on r/BaldursGate3 are keen to make another addition to their camp family. This time, with a very sweet hyena. The unnamed hyena is owned by Goblin called Warrior Gronag that you meet in the Shadow-Cursed Lands in Act Two. While the interaction with him is a minor one, the creature is so endearing that it feels almost wrong not to take him with you. Baldur’s Gate 3 hyena is the new ‘goodest boy’ When you first come across the hyena and his master, Gronag is trying to goad the animal into leaving the safety of the camp by throwing a bone. If you don’t intervene, the hyena obediently fetches and is killed by the effects of the shadow curse. Provided you prevent the hyena’s death, you can talk to him instead. He’s withdrawn and fearful, and it’s apparent that this isn’t the first time he has been victimised by his keeper. If you have Speak with Animals, he tells you members of the Goblin outpost beat him and threaten to kill him should he try to flee. By passing a Persuasion or Intimidation check, you can convince the hyena to make his escape. That spells a happy ending for the little guy, right? Not exactly. While he’s leaving his abusive owner, he’s still in danger of getting hit with the potentially fatal effects of the shadow curse. As he leaves, you can see that he already begins to take damage from it before he despawns. The hyena’s questionable odds of survival have players stressed out: “Where does he go? He just runs off into the curse like how can you actually save him?” To ensure the hyena’s ongoing safety (and to be able to pet his fuzzy head whenever they please) commenters are desperate to adopt him. An pet hyena is a nice idea but as one reply pointed out, it could quickly devolve into your Baldur’s Gate 3 camp becoming a fully-fledged animal sanctuary… although, is that really a bad thing?

Baldur’s Gate 3 players insist the Trial of Love quest is a “big missed opportunity” – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players insist the Trial of Love quest is a “big missed opportunity” Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players are slamming Orin’s competencies again, only this time they’re insisting the Trial of Love quest is a “big missed opportunity” for romance, and the shapeshifting villain. If there’s one incompetent villain in Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s Orin. The shapeshifting, murdereress is constantly stumbling her way into power and only seems to do damage to players through chance and luck. Other times she fails to come up with an idea so brilliant that the Baldur’s Gate 3 community deems it a “big missed opportunity.” One such idea revolves around the Trial of Love quest, inside the Circus during Act Three. During the Circus, players will meet a Dryad, otherwise known as Zethino. Upon speaking to her, you’ll be instructed to select your romantic interest. What follows is a compatibility test which unfortunately has no bearing on your relationship with that companion. However, for some unlucky players, Zethino will turn into Orin, revealing that the sneaky shapeshifter has been there the whole time, and has tricked the player into giving away vital information. Instead of using that information to kidnap a loved one down the road, it turns out Orin does absolutely nothing with it, which is classic for her really. “I was surprised – I didn’t know the Dryad was even real” shared one player on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit, proving how convincing Orin really was: “For some reason, I thought all this love test thing was completely made up by Orin to gather intel on our party and there has never been a Dryad. But then… after that, she just does nothing with this invaluable knowledge about her enemies.” As such, the player highlighted that the “Love test is a big missed opportunity” and was convinced that “it was never her idea to begin with! She just saw this Dryad and thought: Wouldn’t it be cool if I kill and impersonate her and jump-scare the party to death?” Interestingly, one user was quick to explain that “Orin would originally kidnap the player’s love interest, but the play testers strongly disliked this.” By making Orin kidnap that companion, fans would instantly focus on attacking Orin first, which “Act 3 wasn’t fully set up for.” Regardless of the changes, it perfectly proves just how incompetent one of Baldur’s Gate 3’s main villains really is, and how much of a missed opportunity it was for the deadly Changeling.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players insist it has “ruined” romances in other games – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players insist it has “ruined” romances in other games Larian StudiosThe RPG systems within Baldur’s Gate 3 are some of the most in-depth players have ever seen. In particular, the romance options are a particular highlight. So much so that some have now claimed it has ruined romances in other games for them. In a post on Reddit, one player shared their belief that developer Larian Studios has ruined romances in other games. The post quickly drew a lot of attention by pointing to unnecessary flirt options and the lack of NPC agency. Most responses to the post were overwhelmingly in agreement. One player said, “All of this. We routinely get posts in here from people complaining about the companions coming onto them, but the fact that the companions have agency in their own romances and the ability to be attracted to you for their own valid reasons is a big deal.” Another explained the responsible processes Larian undertook when creating the scenes in motion capture. They said, “Idk how industry-standard it is (or isn’t), but Larian hired intimacy coordinators. Like, that s**t for real shows in the voice acting and the facial details in intimate scenes. “I’ve only personally ever romanced Karlach, but in passing videos and with co-op, I have seen other character romance cutscenes. Holy shit, you almost get lost in how well it’s sold by the animation and acting teams.” Others felt the OP went a little too far, saying, “I wouldn’t say ruined, but yeah, more and more those ‘Flirt button’ options make me cringe a bit. “You’re absolutely right that they’re often mistimed, and they’re made incredibly over-the-top and obvious (sometimes to the point of being creepy) because of how many people complained about accidentally starting romances before this became such a common trend.” Whatever your personal feelings on the romance systems in Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s undeniably one of the deepest in the genre to date.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players insist having white hair should affect your stealth – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players insist having white hair should affect your stealth Larian StudiosStealth is vital in a game like Baldur’s Gate 3, whether you’re looking to get the drop on an enemy, lay some traps before an ambush, or just make sure your Rogue gets Steak Attack – as long as you have the right hair color. The feature is easily one of the most commonly used techniques for a combat scenario, especially if you or your companion is a Rogue. After all, not being seen gives you an incredible advantage over your target. However, Baldur’s Gate 3 fans are arguing that one key companion and character hair style is so conspicuous that it warrants a negative in your stealth. Sharing their argument, and pretty funny proof, one player took to the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit to explain why “Having white hair should give -10 in stealth.” Along with their simple argument, the player attached various photos featuring a ‘hidden’ Astarion, which are undeniably pretty easy to spot. Naturally, fans found this hilarious, with many commenting that the resident Rogue is “literally unhideable” thanks to his stylish hair color. Others highlighted that the “Joke’s on you when winter comes and he can hide in the snow” joking that Astarion would blend perfectly into the environment on a chilly day. Interestingly, other games have combated the hair color issue before, one fan detailed: “In Horizon they allow the main character with mane of red hair to hide in clumps of grass. Red grass. That resembles her hair. So for your very boring white-haired magistrate types, some silver-leaved bushes strategically placed on every map will allow them to sneak about.” Of course, Larian hasn’t put any specific white-tipped bushes around for poor Astarion’s convenience, or even any hair dye options too for that extra stealth. Naturally, it would be incredibly unfair to penalize players on their hair color, but based on the poster’s argument, it’s equally hard to deny that white-haired characters do stick out a lot more than perhaps a black-haired Shadowheart would.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players insist Act Three really isn’t that bad – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players insist Act Three really isn’t that bad Larian StudiosAct Three of Baldur’s Gate 3 is widely renowned as the worst Act in the game, with thousands slamming its pacing and an overwhelming amount of quests – but an equal amount of fans are calling for others to revisit the last parts of the game with a new perspective. Sure, plenty of things are better with hindsight, but with video games, you get to go back through the story with new knowledge, and it could even allow you the chance to look at a previously hated section with brand new eyes. One perfect example of this is Baldur’s Gate 3, as now fans are insisting that you need to try out Act Three again, to prove that it’s really not as bad as we’ve all been led to believe. During a Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit post, in which one player asked for the most controversial opinions, one user commented that they “loved Act 3 and exploring the city.” They went on to add that “exploring a city, its merchants and all the side quests, taking your time while a world-destroying event is hanging over your heads feels so dnd” making it an ideal feature for Baldur’s Gate 3. Interestingly, despite the hate the Act gets, thousands flocked to the comment, upvoting it and replying with their own reasoning and advice for anyone looking to dive back into the controversial section. “Wholeheartedly agree” commented one user, going on to say, “I think once you accept that the game will tell you when you’re about to f**k up hard by just wandering into an area you’re not supposed to be in yet, you realize you can actually just take your time and explore.” Based on the advice of veteran players, Baldur’s Gate 3’s last act is best enjoyed when you’re relaxed. Sure, there’s a time limit in the story, but no hidden time mechanic to worry about, meaning players have found ways to make subsequent playthroughs way more enjoyable. This is when a player realized that they could “do everything without worrying about a hidden timer.” Needless to say, while Act Three may be more focused on character development, its overwhelming nature and controversial features surrounding the quests or Gortash and Orin can all be made much more enjoyable by simply sitting back and taking the massive city in, as well as exploring all its secrets.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players “in shock” after grotesque Shadowheart death – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players “in shock” after grotesque Shadowheart death Larian StudiosThe community of Baldur’s Gate 3 is taken aback after one player shares a truly gruesome death for Shadowheart. There are a lot of ways that characters and companions can die in Baldur’s Gate 3, and many of these can be a truly surprising event. The times when an NPC meets their end as an unforeseen result of some other character’s action can be both shocking and hilarious. Now add a fan-favorite character to that, and you have what has happened with Shadowheart in one player’s game, and the community is horrified. Baldur’s Gate 3 fans shook over Shadowheart’s brutal death The death can be seen on the Baldurs’ Gate 3 subreddit, where the player mentions: “When this happened, I was in shock.” Their post goes into more detail, explaining how Shadowheart had died in an area that was being bombed by another NPC. When they went to ressurect Shadowheart after the fight, they found her remains – or at least part of them. They show a photo showing a mass of flesh and organs instead of the body, and the game telling them that they can’t “reanimate inanimate objects.” The community’s response is both surprised and humorous, as many can’t help but be impressed with just how gruesome the death is. “This one’s Shadowheart, and Shadowliver, and Shadowlungs, and Shadowintestine…” Fortunately, many believe that Shadowheart won’t have to remain a pile of her own intestines as one character can do what a Revivify Scroll cannot: “Withers should work both lore-wise and in-game since he casts True Resurrection.” One user is taking the moment to just enjoy everything that Baldur’s Gate 3 has to offer: “Amazing. Gods I feel everyday I see something new coming out of this game.” The community is never left wanting for the most outrageous and incredible moments to talk about.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players in love with fan-made overworld map – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players in love with fan-made overworld map Larian StudiosA Baldur’s Gate 3 fan has shared a custom-made map of the entire game’s overworld, and the community loves it. Baldur’s Gate 3 is split into three Acts, each of which has its own environment to for players to explore and fight their way through. However, the game does not keep each area on the map once players have progressed to the next Act, meaning that they can feel a little disjointed when trying to view them as a whole. But one fan has remedied this by creating a custom overworld map and the fanbase wants to have their own copy. Baldur’s Gate 3 fans adore custom overworld map The map was shared on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, showing off the final result of the poster’s hard work to connect each area of the game into a single map. Notably, the map features all three major areas: The Wilderness, Shadow-Cursed Lands, and Baldur’s Gate itself. Even more, they are all connected just as they would be in the game. The response has been highly positive, with many BG3 fans admiring the work that went into creating the map. One person writes, “Fantastic work here. Would you consider putting that on the bg3.wiki? It would be great for a general walkthrough.” Of course, there are some Baldur’s Gate 3 players who have found minor inaccuracies, mainly for some of the smaller, optional areas in the game. However, this hasn’t stopped them from appreciating the piece as a whole. As one user points out: “You forgot the House of Hope and the jungle you are teleported into by the Djinn! Very well done! Good job.” The map has even shown many players locations they have missed in their playthroughs, as one user comments: “I’ve played the game twice and never been to Zhentarim Basement.” It’s creations and reactions like this that show just how strong of a following Baldur’s Gate 3 has.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players impressed by spells using totally accurate Latin – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players impressed by spells using totally accurate Latin Larian StudiosPlayers have noticed Baldur’s Gate 3’s attention to detail extends to its spell incantation, which use accurate Latin when cast. Baldur’s Gate 3 has been widely praised for its attention to detail. Just about everything a player can do comes with some consequences or reactions, from killing a companion under very specific circumstances to letting anyone other than Minsc throw Boo into battle. That extends to the game’s spells. When casting a spell, characters will utter some incantation, which differs from spell to spell. As one player has pointed out, these incantations are actually in Latin – and accurate Latin at that. Baldur’s Gate 3 spells use correct Latin Reddit user Lower_Watercress9471 shared their discovery, praising Larian for its accuracy and giving some examples. For instance, when Shadowheart casts Spirit Guardians, which summons spirits that can deal either Radiant or Necrotic damage, she shouts “Ira et dolor.” This translates to “Anger and sorrow.” Others have pointed out their favorite examples, such as “Amicus animals” (which translates to “an animal friend”) for Animal Friendship, “Te curo” (literally “I cure you”) for healing spells, and “Evanesco” (“Vanish”) for Invisibility. Another player recalled finding a book in the game that indicates Wizards actually create new spells by experimenting with different Latin phrases. While using Latin for spells is nothing new, it’s impressive in a game like Baldur’s Gate 3 with so many characters casting so many different spells. The fact that it’s also accurate unlike in other fantasy works shows an even greater level of care. As another user joked, Baldur’s Gate 3’s method “Beats Harry Potter, where spells are apparently created via an unholy combination of pig Latin and baby talk.” It may not be the most important detail, but Baldur’s Gate 3’s accurate Latin is another example of how much care developer Larian Studios put into every little aspect of the game. Baldur’s Gate 3 players impressed after Honour Mode run ends in the first room – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players impressed after Honour Mode run ends in the first room Larian StudiosOne unfortunate Baldur’s Gate 3 player has managed to end their Honour Mode run without even leaving the first room, and how unlucky they were is almost impressive. Honour Mode runs in Baldur’s Gate 3 aren’t always the easiest adventures. After all, having the threat of losing your entire game after a total party wipe can inspire a little bit of caution and a fair amount of fear as you work to get rid of that gross tadpole. However, such caution and fear usually come later on in the game, as players are then invested in their choices and their companions. Usually, this isn’t too hard to do, but one player has managed to end their Honour Mode run at the earliest possible stage, both baffling players and leaving many rather impressed. Revealing their misfortune on Reddit, one Baldur’s Gate 3 player shared how they managed to die in the first room, explaining that they escaped their pod and did what most players do in that location, destroy the brine lanterns. However, upon destroying the lanterns, they were hit with the brine taking their Sorcerer down a few hitpoints. After this, they attempted to avoid the brine and failed, taking more damage. Shortly after, with only three hitpoints left they explained how they “ran towards the restoration device, but the brine was in front of it, I carefully jumped but landed on the brine. 3 damage. It was over.” This loss occurred before they’d even left the room and before they’d met any companions, meaning not much love was lost, aside from the extensive character creation. While the failure certainly baffled some players, many just found it to be both understandable and rather impressive. One player commented, “I’m so incredibly impressed right now. You may have set some kind of record” while another added that “this could be a whole new speedrun category.” Speedrunning how quickly you can die in Baldur’s Gate 3 may not be the most intense adventure, but it’s certainly the funniest. While many were impressed, others shared their own mishaps, and it’s clear more than one player has managed to die in this way: “That’s how I died the very first time I played this game. Took less than a minute!” Ultimately, it’s not clear whether the player learned from this, as tons will head into the game and destroy the lanterns and everything in that room – but it certainly proves why a restoration device is waiting for you there.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players “humiliated” after decrypting ridiculous runes – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players “humiliated” after decrypting ridiculous runes This “cheeky” Baldur’s Gate 3 Easter egg has players seriously regretting their character customization choices. Many players, when customizing their character in Baldur’s Gate 3, aim to create someone that looks like a complex hero worthy of the adventure they become embroiled in. What better addition to spice up their look than a couple of tats? Thankfully, you have plenty of options when it comes to body art. A full face of Infernal runes tattoos might catch your eye, especially if your Tav’s backstory would have them in contact with the Nine Hells. The problem is, you’re not likely to actually translate they say. if you do take the time to do so, you’ll discover something that’ll majorly detract from your character’s hardened appearance. Baldur’s Gate 3 players embarrassed by tattoos translation Hilariously, the runes on the face read “GG”, “forehead”, “nose”, “left cheek”, “right cheek”, and “chin”. The neck tatts meanwhile serve as a nice little shoutout to the creators: “Larian Studios”. While some players had this sussed around the time of the game’s release, others have only recently come to the realization that they’ve been rocking some majorly goofy ink their entire play-through. A player took to the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit to share the information, prompting embarrassment from those whose characters have the markings. Others are grateful for only having a close call: “I am so glad that I decide not to use this tattoo at the last second.” One commenter praised the tattoo as being canon-accurate portrayal of Devil linguistics saying, “Infernal is an EXTREMELY literal language. Devils are lawful beings, and their language reflects that.” However, most were of the opinion that rather than providing any anthropological insight into Devil society, it’s just a silly joke among the Baldur’s Gate 3 developers. Mercifully, those in the Forgotten Realms don’t have endure laser tattoo removal to erase their regrettable body art. As one player celebrated: “Thank goodness for the magic mirror.”

The player claimed, “I am currently on my fifth playthrough and still find new items or pieces of equipment I never saw before.” Other players joined in the discussion and started to leave their own input as well. One such player commented, “Hellfire Engine Crossbow in the foundry. You have to pick up a watcher arm, instructions, and some module, then craft it at a specific table in Toobin’s room.” Another player chimed, “A Rogue ring off a hard to see Skeleton just down some vines from where the Hyenas are in Act 1.” One player also added, “I completely missed the best staff and robe in the game at Lorroakan’s tower. (Markoheshkir and Robe of the Weave).” Lastly, a player commented, “On subsequent playthroughs, there is a good argument to pickpocket or murder Lucretious for the Spellmight gloves so you get them first thing in Act 3.” Therefore, it is safe to say that players are still exploring and figuring things out in this game. Baldur’s Gate 3 players highlight “most missable” unique weapon – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players highlight “most missable” unique weapon Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players have recently found a vendor who sells a weapon that can be easily missed during your playthrough. Here is what the community feels about the entire situation. Baldur’s Gate 3 is a massive game and there are several hidden items in the game. You can spend hours on it, but you still miss a few things as some are hidden in plain sight. As it happens, Baldur’s Gate 3 players have recently highlighted a weapon that falls into the hidden-in-plain-sight category. This weapon is quite good, but the item does not appear in his inventory if you have Shadowheart standing near the vendor. Baldur’s Gate 3 player locates easily missable unique weapon in-game The discussion regarding this weapon was started by a Reddit user named Silver-Scion. The player claimed, “You can find this great axe, Sethan, being sold by an NPC named Ferg Drogher in Rivington in Act 3.” They continued, “You can’t have Shadowheart in your party at all or he straight up won’t sell you anything because he recognizes Shart as a Selunite and will disappear forever.” Other players joined the discussion as well since it is something that several of them have missed. One such player commented, ” Shadowheart can be in your party and this still will work, so long as she’s nowhere near him when you talk to him. Just stick her up the road somewhere.” Another player chimed, “Too bad I could never tell God’s favorite princess to go wait in camp.” One user also claimed, “Nice find, indeed I missed it.” Lastly, one of them mentioned, “If the special wares aren’t there after you successfully persuade him, and he didn’t see Shadowheart in your party, long rest and come back.” Therefore, it looks like Baldur’s Gate 3 continues to surprise players even to this day. This game is a bag full of secrets and there is no doubt players are bound to come across more of them in the future.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players highlight disappointing “imbalance” in companion content – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players highlight disappointing “imbalance” in companion content Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 may have some of the best companions in recent RPG history, but that doesn’t mean each of them are on the same level. Baldur’s Gate 3 has firmly established its cast as one of the most memorable of the last few years, and the origin characters are at the center of that. The runaway success of the game in 2023 was largely based on the instant recognisability of characters like Astarion and Shadowheart, brought to life with excellent writing and voice acting. But not every character has been received in the same way. Many members of the camp have a smaller role to play in the story of Baldur’s Gate, such as Halsin, who finishes his quest in Act 2 and doesn’t have much to do for the rest of the story. Additionally, many players feel that Wyll doesn’t get the screen time he deserves, considering how important he is to the administration of the titular city. Baldur’s Gate 3 players prove not all companions are born equal One player on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit said: “After multiple playthroughs, I’ve noticed that quite a few companions get far more focus/content in the story than the others. It’s at the point that it bugs me when some companions like Wyll or Karlach have barely anything to do, when others like Shadowheart or Lae’Zel are basically the main characters besides Tav/Durge. “I recognize that this is largely due to development time differences or rewrites (like in the case of Early Access Wyll), but it still doesn’t seem fair. Even Gale, another Early Access companion, barely has anything to do until the end of Act 2 and a little into Act 3. “I apologize if I’m crapping too much on Shadowheart, but when she gets like 10 unique cutscene triggers in act one and an entire second act story dedicated partially to her background, it gets very annoying. And when she gets a flashback in dialogue, we actually see a cutscene of it. But when Wyll or Astarion get flashbacks, we just get some narrator dialogue and no scene?” Several players agreed, especially with the point made about Wyll, with another player writing: “Wyll literally has his father kidnapped by the main bad guys in the first act yet his content is so sparse and bugged. It’s absurd.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 players heartbroken as bugged Minthara Durge romance is removed – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players heartbroken as bugged Minthara Durge romance is removed Larian StudiosA patch removing some bugged dialogue between Minthara and Dark Urge characters has some players feeling sad about the missing interaction. Mithara has always been one of the buggier companions in Baldur’s Gate 3. When the game first launched, the only way to get her on your team without committing a slew of war crimes involved knocking her out, turning her into a sheep, then putting her on trial. Even after Larian made it easier for her to be recruited by the weaklings who weren’t strong enough to raid the grove, Minthara has still been the source of some strange bugs. She doesn’t even have her own tent in camp, and has to share with Halsin, the guy she put in jail. Awkward. One of these bugs would trigger her “break-up” dialogue from her normal romance path if the player was using a Dark Urge character and successfully resisted the thoughts of murder, leading many players to joke that not being a powerful serial killer was a turn-off for her. Baldur’s Gate 3 players mourn loss of buggy Durge Minthara romance However, the latest patch to Baldur’s Gate 3 has removed that interaction, meaning Minthara now only has healthy, normal interactions with the Bhaalspawn, and not everyone is happy. Some players pointed out that it was still in character for her, with one comment saying: “Minthara does like power, but she also likes autonomy and self-determination. It’s why she also doesn’t break up with Durge if they choose to become Bhaal’s chosen, because it means she gets to be queen-consort of the world Durge makes. For a while, at least.” Another player said: “I just finished a good Durge playthrough last week and she hit me with the “we’re finished” dialogue and I was like damn. But then I immediately talked to her again and the option for, “Can I kiss you?” was still there. I was confused but just rolled with it all the way to the end where we remained romanced.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 players have surprising opinion on companions returning for next game – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have surprising opinion on companions returning for next game Larian StudiosThe Baldur’s Gate 3 community had a surprising answer when they were asked which companions they would want to see return for a potential new game in the franchise. By now it’s common knowledge that the biggest part of Baldur’s Gate 3’s success is the incredible cast of characters you get to spend time with throughout the game. The cast, especially the origin characters, have become instantly recognizable, with brilliant writing and voice acting backing up iconic designs. Whether it’s the universal popularity of Astarion or the collective love for Karlach, it’s safe to say that Baldur’s Gate 3’s companions are some of the most popular characters we’ve seen in the industry for a while. Which is why it might come as a surprise that many players felt lukewarm about the idea of them returning in a future game. Baldur’s Gate 3 players prefer new characters to returning ones in future game One player took to the Baldur’s Gate subreddit to ask which companions players would like to see return, explaining than many of them could live for a long time: “Gale as a powerful wizard can live for a really long time. Astarion is a vampire and half-elf. Shart is a half-elf. Lae’zel can spend a lot of time on the Astral Plane so she shouldn’t age. Karlach’s engine can slow her aging. Minthara is a drow.” However, many players felt like a new game should focus on other new characters, and that returning ones should play a minimal role in any future story in the series. “I’m not so sure about returning companions, but I feel like Arabella was definitely set up to show up in future titles.” one player said. “Girl’s got weird magic, a wild backstory, and is getting mentored by Elminster–she’s got to have something cool in store.” Another comment read: “I don’t think any of the main ones really – too much scope to ‘mess up’ people’s chosen character endings. Maybe small references in books.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 players have spent over 8000 years in character creation – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have spent over 8000 years in character creation Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players have spent a little over 8000 years in the character creation screens combined, according to new stats released by Larian Studios. By now Baldur’s Gate 3 has established itself as one of the runaway success stories of 2023, and it looks poised to clean house at The Game Awards. A bit part of that popularity is the extensive character creation system, that lets players choose from a variety of classes, subclasses and races. Considering this character, which the community has collectively dubbed as “Tav” is one you’ll be looking at for the entirety of the game, it’s not surprising that players have spent quite a while making sure everything about their avatar is perfect. But now Larian Studios have published new stats revealing just how long Baldur’s Gate players have spent in these systems, and the number might be higher than you think. Larian Studios releases new stats for Baldur’s Gate 3 players In a post on the developer’s official Twitter account, Larian Studios released a series of stats about Baldur’s Gate 3, in a similar structure to what they did a few weeks after the game first launched. The tweet claimed that 94% of players had taken it upon themselves to make their own characters for the game, which is quite impressive considering the quality of the pre-made origin characters you can play as. Among other stats, the numbers showed that Baldur’s Gate 3 players had spent a combined total of 8196 years in the character creation stages of the game, which totals out to around 72 million hours. Getting the right Tav is clearly something players take very seriously. For more news and updates on Baldur’s Gate 3, check out some of the complaints the dice roles in Honor Mode have been getting.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players have one major issue with that infamous bear scene – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have one major issue with that infamous bear scene Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players are taking issue with the infamous bear sex scene between the player and the Druid Halsin, but their complaint is probably not the one you’re expecting. Before Baldur’s Gate 3 became one of the most successful games of 2023, winning numerous Game of the Year awards and surpassing just about everyone’s expectations, developer Larian Studios shocked the world by announcing one of its intimate moments would feature some human-on-bear action. Of course, the moment takes place between two consenting adults, with one being a Druid capable of using Wild Shape to transform into a bear. Even still, the scene was the subject of much online scrutiny and many jokes, some of which came at the expense of the director’s son. The shock and intrigue around the Halsin bear sex scene has died down a bit now that the game has been out for nearly half a year. Still, some fans are taking issue with it, though not for the reasons you may expect. Baldur’s Gate 3 players disappointed they can’t get bear-on-bear action While some may have some ethical issues with interspecies intimacy – even if it’s really just Halsin in bear form – others have expressed frustration with the infamous scene for very different reasons. As Reddit user Thick-Werewolf8821 asked on the BG3 subreddit, “Why can’t I turn into a bear- for that scene” while playing as a Druid. While Druid players can become bears themselves, the Halsin scene plays out the same way regardless of your character or their class. The user jokingly gave Baldur’s Gate 3 an abysmal 0/10 review score, claiming it had “no player freedom.” Some commenters have tried to explain why Larian would not let players, as the poster put it “get down and dirty bear style” – outside of the obvious resource restraints. “Because bear on bear sex is mundane. You see that all the time,” one commenter joked. “Literally unplayable smh,” claimed another. Others lamented that their Druid avatars can’t engage in Wild Shape sex themselves regardless of who they’re romancing.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players have one major complaint about items – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have one major complaint about items Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 may be one of the best games to come out recently, but it’s not entirely immune from criticism, and a lot of players aren’t happy with its inventory and item system. A few months after release, Baldur’s Gate 3 has cemented itself as one of the most impressive releases this year, and is hotly anticipated to be nominated for Game of the Year awards as 2023 comes to a close. But despite this enduring popularity, Larian Studio’s latest RPG isn’t entirely without flaws, and players have slowly uncovered some of them now that the hype of the game’s release has died down. One of the most common complaints relates to how the game handles items and inventory management, which many players have found to be clunky and unintuitive. Baldur’s Gate 3’s inventory system comes under fire The inventory system has consistently been flagged as one of Baldur’s Gate 3’s less well-developed systems. Specifically, players found it weird that there wasn’t a shared inventory, even while at camp. There’s a lot of stuff to pick up in Baldur’s Gate, especially if you’re the type of player who searches every single barrel. However, having each companion have their own closed inventory makes keeping track of all the things you’ve found a massive hassle, especially when your own inventory fills up so quickly. One player on the official Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit listed the lack of a shared inventory as one of his biggest criticisms of the game, and several other players also noted that the “Sort by Type” option was not very reliable. “Inventory management is atrocious,” one player said. “Even the filters are awful. Like why isn’t there a “Dyes” option? Sort by Type still throws them randomly together.” One of the other mechanics players criticised were AI pathing decisions and shaky jumping, which often left party members stranded away from the rest of the group. Baldur’s Gate 3 players have one major complaint about Act 3 plot twist – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have one major complaint about Act 3 plot twist Larian StudiosThe Baldur’s Gate 3 community has brought up some criticisms of one of the big story developments in Act 3, involving the camp intruder. The story of Baldur’s Gate 3 reaches its climax in Act 3, where all the actions you’ve taken in the previous two start paying off. However, the final Act has been generally ranked as the weakest of the three, as players aren’t quite as satisfied with how it wraps things up compared to the others. Additionally, now players are starting to analyze some of the most significant story beats during the act, and the plotline where Orin infiltrates the camp and replaces one of your companions. Specifically, players are disappointed that in a game with as many RPG options as Baldur’s Gate 3, they’re unable to be detectives and sniff them out in an elaborate crime-solving scenario. Baldur’s Gate 3 players just want to solve a fun little crime thriller One player posed the question “What logical choices are you surprised aren’t available?” on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, and most of the answers they received concerned the Orin disguise in Act 3, which is revealed if you speak to Gortash in the titular city of Baldur’s Gate. Another player answered: “Investigating and figuring out which of your companions is Orin in disguise. Gortash literally tells you “Someone in your camp is a shapeshifter, and you better find out who” and then YOU CAN’T. “This would be such a good opportunity to question your companions and try to deduce which one it is based on how much you’ve talked to them and know about them.” Another commenter suggested that the investigation could involve the tadpoles in each party member’s brain, though another person pointed out that would make for a quick discovery, saying: “Why is this shapeshifting imposter in camp a problem among a group of people who can communicate telepathically via tadpole?” For more news and updates on Baldur’s Gate 3, check out the player who turned the Emperor into a sheep during one of the game’s most important cutscenes.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players have one burning question about Shadowheart’s new hair – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have one burning question about Shadowheart’s new hair Larian StudiosShadowheart’s makeover in Act 2 is one of the turning points for her character, but some players are wondering how she managed to pull it off in the first place. The decision of what to do with the Nightsong in Act 2 is one of the biggest moral conundrums in the whole of Baldur’s Gate 3. On one side, freeing her from years of imprisonment gives you a massive boost in the fight against Ketheric, lets her reunite with her lover, and is unquestionably the right thing to do. On the other side, letting Shadowheart kill her gives you an in with a hot goth cleric. It’s a real headscratcher. If you do end up freeing Dame Alyin and convincing Shart to give up on the whole cult of darkness thing, she’ll show off how different she is now by changing her hair color overnight, switching from black to white, while also giving the style a bit of a trim. Now, you might be thinking that she just uses the magic mirror that conveniently appears in every campsite you stay at (maybe Withers carries it around?), but this feature was only added to the game in a post-release patch, and Shadowheart has been messing with her fringe since long before that. One player posed the question on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, saying: “If you spare the Nightsong and SH’s past is revealed, one of her responses is to change her hair from the normal black to white as a symbolic transition from Shar to Selûne (or at least her just breaking from Shar’s influence). “This is more so a curiosity I’ve had rather than a serious complaint or issue, but how exactly did Shadowheart change her hair color? Dyeing, magic, or Selûne’s influence?” Several players suggested that it was unlikely that Selune just changed her hair at a whim, seeing as Shadowheart drops hints about her new fashion sense. One player said: “Halsin also mentions seeing her sneaking around with a knife after everyone went to bed and that he’s relieved it was only for a haircut. Personally, I assumed the colour change was magic of some kind.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 players have one bizarre request for next patch – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have one bizarre request for next patch Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players have called for a new change to one of the game’s most controversial romances, and it’s one of the weirder demands we’ve seen. Developer Larian Studios has done a good job of consistently updating Baldur’s Gate 3 to include new features and fix problems that players had since release. Features like the Magic Mirror, romance tweaks, and the new epilogues added in the most recent patches are good examples of Larian responding to player feedback. But this latest demand might be one that even Larian might steer away from. Not only would it require a significant amount of work from the voice actors, but it’s also quite a bizarre request. This is probably because it’s coming from the group of players who think romancing the Emperor is a good idea. Clearly having an achievement pop up on your Steam profile for all to see wasn’t enough for the mindflayer enthusiasts in the community, because now they’re wondering why the other members of their camp don’t react to you getting with the Emperor. Baldur’s Gate 3 players want characters to know they slept with a mindflayer In a post on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, one player asked: “Larian has made so many updates, but have they added any reaction to when you have sex with the Emperor?” It’s a question philosophers have been pondering since the dawn of man. Why don’t any of your companions have any hot takes about your relationship with a sentient squid monster? It especially doesn’t make sense that Githyanki characters like Lae’zel don’t reprimand you for sleeping with her mortal enemies, which led to some players theorizing why everyone stays silent on the topic. “What happens in the Astral Plane stays in the Astral Plane, I guess,” one player suggested. Another proposed that all the other party members make similar choices with regards to the Emperor, so they can’t really criticize Tavs for doing the same thing they did. For more insight into how the Baldur’s Gate 3 community feels about the Emperor, check out this very philosophical discussion on the morality of his actions throughout the story.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players have one big Magic Mirror question – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have one big Magic Mirror question Larian StudiosThe Magic Mirror is one of Baldur’s Gate 3’s most popular post-launch additions, but players are wondering about its in-universe implications. When Baldur’s Gate 3 released last year, players who created their own avatars rather than selecting one of the premade Origin characters were locked into their appearance for the rest of the game. That changed with the release of Patch 3, which introduced the Magic Mirror. With it, players could edit just about anything about their Tav’s appearance save for their body type and race anytime they visited their Camp. It’s a great addition that players have appreciated since its introduction, with some even using it for storytelling purposes. However, there’s one big question the Magic Mirror presents that Baldur’s Gate 3 never addresses. BG3 players want to know how companions recognize Tav after using Magic Mirror Reddit user CheetoTreato posed the question to the BaldursGate3 subreddit: How does everyone recognize a Tav who’s changed everything about their appearance mid-game? Many players use the Magic Mirror for minor changes that fit into their character’s journey, such as dying their hair or getting a new scar. But you do have the option to make changes that are harder to explain, like changing your voice or skin tone. Some commenters have proposed their own explanations for the Magic Mirror’s in-game implications. “Maybe it moves your consciousness to a different timeline where you’ve always looked like that,” suggested one user. Another proposed a darker solution: The Emperor altering everyone’s memories so that they recognize a post-makeover Tav. The easiest potential answer is that the protagonist’s tadpole ensures the others know who they are, though this doesn’t explain why non-tadpoled characters are also in the loop. The fact that the game never attempts to provide an answer is probably for the best. After all, it’s likely the party would be suspicious of any sudden physical transformations, and having to fight or convince your allies every time you use the Magic Mirror would be a high price to pay for a pretty standard RPG feature.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players have found the meanest line of dialogue in the game – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have found the meanest line of dialogue in the game Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 has no shortage of options for evil players, but one person may have stumbled across the meanest dialogue choice in the game. Those who want to walk on the dark side in Baldur’s Gate 3 have a readymade option with the Dark Urge Origin, who can commit terrible murders with a casual dialogue choice. Even players who pick another Origin can still engage in truly heinous acts, such as leaving Scratch the Dog in a cage. Some of the darkest choices in the game are the ones that players make accidentally, without thinking through the consequences of their actions. This was discussed in a thread on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit, where the OP allowed Yenna to be killed by Orin, leading to an upsetting murder scene. According to the OP, “After Orin disguised herself as Lae’zel she brought me Yenna and said she was Orin. Now I’ve had this encounter before so I knew Orin was actually Lae’zel. I figured “eh f–k it I’ll try to save her” and did the intimidation check, which I failed, resulting in Orin pulling out her blade and gave me more dialogue options. They continued, “One was (paraphrasing, I don’t remember the exact wording) “I don’t care whether or not she’s Orin, kill her anyway.” Which I picked, and it then resulted in Yenna begging me to help before Orin slashes her throat.” “The meanest and cruelest thing I was able to do was breaking Alfira’s lute (I’ll admit it was a little funny, but felt awful),” one user wrote, “An honorable mention is telling Wyll: “Listen Wyll, she manipulated me into it, you of all people should understand” or “can you blame me? It’s not like you’ve been putting out.” After cheating on him with Mizora is absolutely diabolical.” “There are a lot of really cruel rejection options during romances. Lae’zel in particular, when she finally shows you some vulnerability, you can call her pathetic or that you only enjoyed her for the s-x. Just absolutely brutal. You can say some pretty awful things to Karlach too.” One player may have found the worst of them all. “I broke up with Astarion telling him I don’t want to deal with his trauma. His response is the single most beautiful line in the game. “You gave me precious, impossible moments of comfort. I only really wanted a few more.” Like its D&D roots, Baldur’s Gate 3 features a lot of death and carnage. You can slice your way through all kinds of sentient beings without raising an eyebrow. After all, they’re usually the ones who start it, and you have a right to defend yourself, even with lethal force. It’s the small acts of pettiness and misery that stick out more than the murder. The painful, agonizing words that you use to torment the other party members. They’re all awful to say, but they’re among the most memorable moments in the game.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players have finally worked out the inscription on Karlach’s horn – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have finally worked out the inscription on Karlach’s horn Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players have only just discovered what Karlach’s horn inscription really says, with fans using key translating and detective skills. If there’s one thing Baldur’s Gate 3 is good at it’s the attention to detail. Larian has embedded so many easter eggs, classic characters, and even memorable items into the game, meaning practically everything you read, interact with, or see has a purpose. This is entirely the case with the companions. After all, there’s no way Larian just added features to the characters for the sake of it, everything feels so meticulous and important. That being said, the devs have often placed in some hilarious Runes for players to put on their characters, so there’s always an element of comedy there. Karlach’s horn inscription finally revealed Posting onto Reddit, one user attempted to trick the community into thinking that Karlach’s horn inscription was equally as jokey. “I finally figured out what is written on Karlach’s horn…” they began, revealing that it says: “We have been trying to reach you about your Infernal engine’s extended warranty.” Naturally, this was a joke, and the inscription actually reads “My champion, the Demonsbane. My blood is her strength!” Despite the poster revealing what it actually says in the comments, many fell for this joke, highlighting how “Damn it, I wanted to believe it was writing about her infernal engine’s extended warranty.” Others joked that the inscription is “written on the horn so she can’t read it. Truly demonic.” Although it’s unlikely she’ll want to be reminded of her past with Zariel, she’s already been through so much. Despite the joke, the attention to detail by Larian is truly impressive, and the translation efforts by players are equally outstanding. At least it doesn’t just say horn over and over again like those runes.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players have crowned the best companion to play as – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have crowned the best companion to play as Baldur’s Gate 3Baldur’s Gate 3 players are praising one key companion, claiming it’s undeniably the best companion to play as. Typically, on the first Baldur’s Gate 3 playthrough, players are likely to create their own character and explore the game as Tav. However, after that, many fans look to try out a new way of playing and exploring the story, through the eyes of the companions. Naturally, choosing an Origin Character can be pretty tricky, with so many different options, classes, and experiences to pick from. Thankfully, most are so different they can’t be compared. Despite this, one Origin Character has been crowned as the best companion to play as among the community. Baldur’s Gate 3 players convinced one Origin Character is better than others Sharing their “hot take” on Reddit, one user revealed why “Wyll is the best companion to play as.” They went on to explain how playing him allows you to explore other companions without worrying about forgetting Wyll’s storyline, and that the Warlock is one of the most popular classes in the game, but usually Tavs don’t interact with their patron much, which is where Wylls relationship with Mizora comes in. There were tons of reasons as to why Wyll is a great Origin character, and despite the player calling it a hot take, hundreds of fans took to the comments to agree with their ideas. “I completely agree” commented one user, going on to say how they “have one Origin companion run started and it’s Wyll, for mostly the same reasons.” Others were quick to agree with the poster, revealing how they thought Wyll has “extreme protagonist energy” and that they can imagine him “befriending all the companions and wanting to not only save them from the tadpoles but solve all their various problems along the way” making the entire story more natural. “I did an origin playthrough as him and yep, he 100% feels like he should be the default protagonist outside of Tav, and his romance with Karlach feels so natural. It actually doesn’t feel right going with anyone else” added one user, revealing just how impactful the Karlach and Wyll pairing feels throughout the story. One Baldur’s Gate 3 player summed up the community’s feelings: “I think the most important point is this: Wyll is the only origin character whose personal story actually feels more impactful when told from a first-person perspective rather than from the outside.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 players have bizarre fate in mind for True Soul Nere – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have bizarre fate in mind for True Soul Nere Larian StudiosThere are a lot of colorful characters throughout Baldur’s Gate 3, but it’s rare you see so much of the player base united over one character. Nevertheless, almost everyone agrees that True Soul Nere, an Absolute cultist you meet in the Underdark in Act 1, is completely beyond redemption. The moment you save his life, he immediately tells you to kill a bunch of people, or fights you as a way of saying thanks. So when you have to cut off his head, or leave him to his death, it’s usually a highlight of the playthrough. He’s a nasty guy, and why would anyone want him around? Well, that exactly what some players want. Despite Nere being an all-around awful person, he’s at the top of the list for NPCs who would make great party members for an “evil” playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3, according to players. Baldur’s Gate 3 players want to recruit Nere for some reason In a post on the official Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, one player asked which NPCs would make the best party members. The obvious fan favorites, such as Alfira, topped the list, but the conversation got interesting when the topic of less moral companions was raised. “Evil-aligned players should get more chances to recruit evil characters,” one player proposed. “I understand that Priestess Gut and Dror Ragzlin can’t be recruited due to being goblinoid, and how that would affect tons of stuff, but Z’Rell, Nere, or any of the Duegar would make good companions in an evil playthrough.” Another player said: “It would be awesome if siding with Nere meant recruiting him instead of…. Getting one line later mentioning he’s dead and that’s about it.” Another commenter said that allowing Nere to join the party would make the choice to side with him in the Underdark more meaningful: “It’s still very underwhelming after siding with Nere that the only consequence is “you lost content and Nere is dead and zombified”.” Clearly the worst punishment someone like Nere can suffer is joining the player’s party. Baldur’s Gate 3 players have big plans for customizable hirelings – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have big plans for customizable hirelings Larian StudiosHotfix 9 finally gives Baldur’s Gate 3 players the option to customize hirelings, and some fans are getting really creative with the new feature. Baldur’s Gate 3‘s latest update gives players yet another way to shape their own adventure. Hotfix 9 adds the ability to customize hirelings, pre-made characters that players can recruit to fill out their parties. While they don’t come with deep lore of quests the way the game’s Companions do, hirelings are good for those who have lost Companions for story reasons or to simple make a different kind of party. Now that hirelings can be customized, players are sharing their ideas for how to make the most of this new option. Baldur’s Gate 3 players want to recreate LOTR, previous Tavs & more with hirelings After introducing the Magic Mirror in Patch 3, Larian is expanding on who can use it. The feature was originally limited to the player-created avatar (or “Tav”). While it still can’t be used on Companions, the option to customize hirelings gives players a way to really make a full party their own. It should be noted that players cannot change their Tav’s race, body type, or voice after character creations, and these restrictions likely apply to hirelings too. Just as they did when the Mirror was introduced, players already have plans for how to use the latest update in creative ways. For instance, one player wants to use the option and a mod that eliminates the limit on party size to recreate Lord of the Rings – with their Tav as Gandalf, of course. Another celebrated the update saying “I CAN BRING MY TAVS TOGETHER AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!” As some have pointed out, the ability to customize a full party is one that’s usually a staple in CRPGs like this. One Reddit user was very excited to see the Hotfix, as they considered this a “mandatory feature.” Though Baldur’s Gate 3 does let you change your Companions’ stats and classes, the option to customize characters who are basically blank slates certainly has its appeal. A party of customized hirelings may not be intriguing for those who love the game’s characters and their individual story arcs, but for those who want to, for example, pretend they’re journeying across Middle-earth instead of the Forgotten Realms, Hotfix 9 is essential. Baldur’s Gate 3 players have been misreading spell artwork since launch – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have been misreading spell artwork since launch Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3’s spell icons are mostly easy to read, even when shrunk down on the UI, but some have confused players, as they can be interpreted in multiple different ways. Baldur’s Gate 3 is a vastly different game from its predecessors, and not just because of the twenty-year gap and the nearly completely different D&D ruleset. The shift to a 3D world and turn-based combat system means there is a world of difference between the Baldur’s Gate titles. One aspect of the older games that was kept (outside of the Bhaalspawn storyline) is some of the spell icons. Spells like Magic Missile and Sleep have artwork on the UI that longtime players should recognize. There’s at least one spell in the game that has a misleading icon, according to users on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit, who claim that Vicious Mockery’s artwork looks like someone crying, even though it’s meant to be someone tunneling their hands over their mouth, to ensure they’re heard. “Oh.. so those weren’t two massive streams of tears pouring out of the person’s eyes :’) well, thanks for telling me haha,” one user wrote, while another said, “I also thought it was someone crying cause I called them names.” “I used to think it’s a person cry laughing casting vicious mockery like “lmao look at this idiot,” another user wrote, while another joked, “If it makes you feel any better, I thought this icon was a sea lion and the lines were its whiskers.” It’s possible that the artwork was intended to be read both ways. Vicious Mockery is a powerful Cantrip that involves you insulting an enemy so hard that you hurt them, so it makes sense that it could represent both the insulter and the target. As Baldur’s Gate 3 doesn’t have any Bard companions (well, until the upcoming patch, at least), there’s a chance that plenty of players missed out on Vicious Mockery. Those who will get to utilize Alfira’s power in the new patch will hopefully recognize the Cantrip’s icon for what it is, or at least come up with an amusing alternative all their own.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players have an important question about dragonborn biology – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have an important question about dragonborn biology Larian StudiosOne race-specific dialogue option in Baldur’s Gate 3 has players questioning some basic aspects of dragonborn biology. Baldur’s Gate 3 incorporates some of the player’s character creation and build choices into the dialogue options. Depending on which race, class, and subclass you pick, you’ll find opportunities to respond to others in ways other kinds of characters cannot. For example, a githyanki player character will have different dialogue options at the Creche than, say, a human or halfling. These options sometimes have major impacts on how a situation unfolds, but one dragonborn-specific option is raising eyebrows for a very different reason. Baldur’s Gate 3 players want to know if dragonborn poop Reddit user K_Hoslow shared a screenshot of a peculiar dialogue option they found while playing as a dragonborn Dark Urge. In response to a goblin saying something about “playin’ hide an’ seek when yer tryin’ to take a dump,” dragonborn players can say “Heh. It’s a good thing my kind do not need to defecate.” This line has some players questioning everything they thought they knew about dragonborn anatomy. Several commenters suggested Dragonborn could have cloacas, which would fit with their lizardlike appearances. Based on Dungeons & Dragons lore, it seems dragonborn are actually mammals – albeit ones that have scales and lay eggs – meaning their anatomy would be more humanlike. This would fit with Baldur’s Gate 3’s character creator, which gives dragonborn the same genitalia options as the rest of the races. Most likely, the line is meant as a joke. Commenters have noted that elves and githyanki can also make the same claim, implying it’s just the character making something up to trick an unsuspecting goblin. That does beg the question, though, of why it’s merely a simple dialogue choice when, as the original poster notes, the developers “should’ve make that a deception check.” While there are some dragonborn anatomy questions we’ll probably never get answers to – such as how they reproduce – for those who were wondering, it seems that, yes, dragonborn do in fact defecate like any other humanoid.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players have already spent 88 years creating characters – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have already spent 88 years creating characters Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players have spent almost a century in character creation screens despite the game being a few days old. The new CRPG from Larian Studios has exceeded all expectations, becoming a rapid contender for game of the year and reaching the tops of Steam’s charts for concurrent players despite only releasing this month. A big part of BG3’s success is the massive amount of freedom and customization you have at your disposal, and the core of those choices comes from your playable character. Larian Studios clearly understood this when developing the game, because the character creation process for Baldur’s Gate 3 is so thorough that some players are spending more than an hour on it. Baldur’s Gate 3 players spend almost a century on character creation In a Community Update on Twitter, Larian Studios posted some stats about how players were spending their time on the game. Impressively, more than 300 players beat the game on the weekend that it dropped, and Paladins were revealed as the most popular class so far. Larian Studios also confirmed that almost 10% of players had spent at least an hour on creating their character, and that more than 90% of players had decided to make their own character rather than play as one of the presets. Most important of all, Scratch the dog has been petted over 750,000 times. The most popular Origin character was Gale, though players quickly found out that Gale is also the 7th most common cause of player death. Character creation is always going to be a massive part of CRPGs, but even so, this level of detail is something we rarely see in the industry, and it’s a big part of why BG3 is being considered for Game of the Year. Baldur’s Gate 3 players hate one aspect about traveling with companions – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players hate one aspect about traveling with companions Larian StudiosSince its release out of early access, Baldur’s Gate 3 has been an outstanding success – but not all players think every aspect of the game is great. Some find one element about traveling with companions a relentless chore. With high review scores, constant praise, and regular patch notes that just keep on giving, it’s clear that, despite not being a live service game, Baldur’s Gate 3 is here to stay. Its community adores playing as each Origin character, their own creations, and even the Dark Urge, especially when there are so many unique endings to discover. However, despite the praise and success, there are still elements the community can’t stand, with one key aspect of traveling with companions proving to take the place as the most hated element of the game. Baldur’s Gate 3 players hate traveling with companions Posting onto Reddit, one Baldur’s Gate 3 player asked the community “What’s the worst thing about the game for you?” They then shared their thoughts, explaining how “it definitely has to be when a companion stops following you for whatever reason. I get they don’t want to be poisoned but… it’s the only way through, f**king come on, man.” Despite the comments being filled with many different answers to the poster’s question, one frustration rang true for many, with hundreds of comments agreeing with the OP’s answer. One of the most frustrating parts of Baldur’s Gate 3 can often be its companions. Since you can’t really control them directly, they’re usually commanded to simply follow you. However, that doesn’t always mean they’re in your shadow, and can instead lead to some pretty annoying situations where they wander off, walk straight into traps, or just disappear altogether. One user shared their frustrations regarding traversing landscapes where you have to jump, highlighting how their issue with the game is, “When you jump over something but one of the companions stays there. Come on Gale even you can make that jump.” Others found similar elements annoying, with one highlighting their time in Act 2, with the Shadow Curse: “For me, it was Act 2 Mortuary. Same idea, except this time if they stop moving they get separated from the light source and you get SHADOW CURSES. 20-minute crawl took almost two hours to run through three freaking rooms.” Companions are a key element for Baldur’s Gate 3, and there’s plenty to love about them, but one thing the community can agree on is how frustrating it is to explore with them in tow.
