Baldur’s Gate 3 glitch ends Honor Mode run in an instant Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 Honor Mode runs are unsafe at the best of times but when you factor in a common platform glitch, it’s a recipe for disaster. It’s a story as old as time itself. Well, as old as Baldur’s Gate 3’s Honor Mode anyway. After all, the hardcore variation of Baldur’s Gate 3 that ends the minute your party is wiped out can go wrong in a million different ways. Sometimes it’s your own doing. Maybe you forget that Scratch is a good boy who likes to play fetch, or maybe you got a little too thirsty and offered up your soul to a succubus. The worst instances of Honor Mode failure, however, are the ones where it’s not your fault at all. Reddit user Chef_Koi_Lardy knows that better than most after a Baldur’s Gate 3 glitch wiped their whole party in a matter of seconds. Exploring the bowels of the Grymforge, Chef_Koi_Lardy fell victim to a well-known bug in Baldur’s Gate 3. Setting their team up on one of the moving platform mechanisms in the dungeon, they fired an arrow to hit a switch and transport their party over a chasm. Unfortunately, a physics issue didn’t pair their characters with the platform which meant that as it moved, the party stayed situated. The platform moved out from underneath them and they all dropped to their immediate death — swiftly ending the run. Other Baldur’s Gate 3 players were quick to commiserate with Chef_Koi_Lardy, offering methods of save scumming Honor Mode to avoid this in the future. “When it’s a bug like this, I feel like there’s no shame in some chicanery of your own,” one user offered in consolation. While still a little fuming, Chef_Koi_Lardy doesn’t seem to be letting this incident dissuade them from their quest for those golden dice. They promised, “I’m definitely gonna try again after I have some time to breathe.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 glitch creates “terrifying” Gale and Halsin hybrid – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 glitch creates “terrifying” Gale and Halsin hybrid Larian Studios/KonamiBaldur’s Gate 3 fans disappointed by the inability to date Gale and Halsin simultaneously can finally experience the best of both worlds with a glitch that fuses the Wizard and the Druid into one package. While Baldur’s Gate 3 is known for its wild romance scenes, it only has a few options for pursuing multiple characters at once. Halsin is down for whatever, but you can’t romance him at the same time as Gale, as the Wizard of Waterdeep wants you all to himself. Those who want Gale’s brain in Halsin’s rockin’ bod can do so via a glitch discovered by a user on the BG3 Reddit. This happened after Halsin was rescued from the cage but before the leaders of the Goblin Camp were defeated, making it seem as if Gale had fused with the Druid after their first meeting. “Galsin isn’t real. He can’t hurt you,” one user wrote, while another said, “It’s not a bug, they just hooked up in the dark and accidentally put each others clothes on.” “This is so cursed, but I’m morbidly fascinated by how this turns out (does Gale replace Halsin??)” one user asked, to which the OP replied, “No, there is also normal Halsin as well haha,” confirming that the player now has two Halsins to play with. It seems this is a recurring issue, possibly tied to Halsin being added late in development, as the Act 2 characters are known for causing problems with the game. “This happened to me too, except instead of Gale, it was my Tav,” another user said, “So bizarre.” Baldur’s Gate 3 is notorious for its bugs, though fans have been understanding, considering the massive scope of the game. Halsin accidentally robbing Gale’s clothes and personality is at least a funny error, especially as it makes the mighty Druid act like that shark that steals Woody’s hat in the original Toy Story.

Baldur’s Gate 3 glitch causes Astarion to give awkward forehead kisses – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 glitch causes Astarion to give awkward forehead kisses Larian StudiosAfter a recent Baldur’s Gate 3 hotfix, an issue with Astarion’s new kissing animation is causing the usually suave Elf to fumble during romantic moments. With him being one of the most thirsted-after companions in Baldur’s Gate 3, there’s certainly an appetite among fans for more Astarion romance content. As a small part of the recently implemented Hotfix #10, Larian provided just that. The update resulted in a marked improvement on Astarion’s Patch #4’s snog. During this, he grimaced or stared blankly when asked for some sugar. However, while post-Hotfix #10 Astarion now has the right spirit, he still seriously needs to work on his aim. Baldur’s Gate 3’s Astarion delivers some buggy kisses On the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, a player shared footage of their Body Type 1 Tav enduring Astarion’s recently added kissing animation. In it, he grabs their character’s hips passionately but ends up delivering a smooch that’s decidedly more chaste. Instead of locking lips, he bizarrely pecks them on their forehead. Commenters agreed an intentional forehead kiss would be rather sweet. However, it’s clear from his partner’s facial animations that their two mouths were supposed to meet. As other players have pointed out, Astarion is also hilariously off the mark with Body Type 3 and 4. With these taller, more muscular characters, he kisses the air in front of his lover’s chest. However, Baldur’s Gate 3 fans who chose Body Type 2 for their Tavs are smugly enjoying the animation as it was intended. It’s unclear when a fix for Astarion’s buggy kissing animation will be introduced. Still, fans have observed that Larian Studios have been committed to their attempts to “fix” Astarion. They have a good deal in common with the players in that regard. Except Larian are trying to fix him in a technical sense, not trying to fix him in the ‘he’s really not that bad of a guy for wanting to become a Vampire Ascendant‘ sense. We see you, ascended Astarion defenders.

Baldur’s Gate 3 player slams community for misunderstanding Githyanki Creche – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 player slams community for misunderstanding Githyanki Creche Larian StudiosA Baldur’s Gate 3 player has slammed the community for showing no sympathy at the Githyanki Creche. Baldur’s Gate 3’s nuanced storytelling challenges players at every turn. Some characters who seem to walk the path of good later prove themselves less than noble. And countless users can probably attest to wrongfully judging an NPC they initially perceived as evil. But a few narrative arcs in the RPG have divided fans about what constitutes right and wrong. The Githyanki Creche quest represents one such point of division. Recruiting Lae’zel opens up the side quest, which revolves around the Creche possibly housing a cure for the protagonist’s Mind Flayer Parasite. Later during the mission, players get presented with the option to kill all Githyanki in the Creche. Previously learning about the race’s heinous deeds may make the decision easier for some than others. However, one person argues the choice isn’t so cut and dry. Baldur’s Gate 3 player says the Githyanki deserve more sympathy The fan in question, a Redditor named yesoryes, sparked the discussion by arguing, “there’s not enough sympathy for the Githyanki at the crèche.” Interestingly, the BG3 player noted that sparing the Githyanki unlocks fascinating dialogue options. One sees the protagonist speak with a young member of the race who commends the player’s compassion. Another conversation involves a Githyanki caretaker who was nearly killed at birth for hatching last. The Redditor asked, “How many Githyanki were killed because they were perceived as being weak?” They go on to lament how often discussions in the subreddit devolve into fans bragging about killing everyone in the Creche just because the entire race gets labeled as “bloodthirsty killers.” BG3 fans in the Reddit thread seem split on this thinking about the Githyanki. One person stated the race doesn’t receive sympathy because “they murder everyone that bothers them on their quest to kill mind flayers.” Another Baldur’s Gate 3 user shared a similar sentiment, writing, “Creche Y’llek slaughtered an entire monastery of Lathander monks, refugees, and fists. Don’t think they deserve much sympathy.” Someone else took the middle ground, drawing attention to the complications surrounding the Githyanki, yet still calling them an “evil race of people in general.” While there are exceptions, this person said they shouldn’t all be approached with open arms. One highly-upvoted comment approached the topic from a different angle, explaining that “The Githyanki at the creche do not deserve mercy. Githyanki as a race deserve some amount of sympathy because kindness is crushed out of them.” Like several other aspects of Baldur’s Gate 3, the Githyanki Creche storyline is one that will spur lots of discussion for a long time to come.

Baldur’s Gate 3 gave a key companion the worst build in the game – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 gave a key companion the worst build in the game Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 may give the players plenty of opportunities to craft the most powerful characters possible, but that’s got nothing on the pretty useless companion Larian crafted themselves. It’s well known among the Baldur’s Gate 3 community that Shadowheart, the Cleric you meet at the start of the game, is pretty lackluster in her power. Some blame it on her odd array of spells, others swear she’s coded to miss 90% of her attacks. Either way, the poor loveable companion just doesn’t hold up too much in combat. However, after the players took to Reddit and performed a deep dive into why Shadowheart doesn’t quite hold up, it was revealed that it’s not her spells or her coding, but her stats and subclass that let her down. Typically, as highlighted by the post, Clerics are designed to be up-front fighters. Their high armor class, weapon proficiencies, and well-thought-out spells make them perfect for a frontline healer. However, with a 13 in Strength, and 14 in Constitution, Shadowheart’s armor class and attack damage are already incredibly sub-par. Combine that with her Trickery Domain subclass, and many fans were quickly wondering why Larian decided to design her in such an odd way. “The way her stats are balanced in her base kit is INCREDIBLY stupid,” commented one fan, going on to explain how the issues “ended up giving a lot of new players who might not have understood why things weren’t working/how to fix it in respec a really bad opinion of her.” Of course, if Shadowheart is respecced then players can completely change her stats subclass. Fans quickly took to the comments to showcase the best choices for these. “Shadowheart gets a respec into tempest or war domain every time” explained one player, adding that the “former has more caster vibes and latter is also fun and badass.” The Tempest Cleric is undeniably the favored subclass for Clerics and Shadowheart. After all, it does grant you tons of damaging spells like Thunderwave, Shatter, and Call Lightning, but also some handy utility spells like Freedom of Movement. So, if you intend on adding Shadowheart to your Baldur’s Gate 3 party, be sure to respec her as soon as you can, change her stats around to work more with her attacks or her spells, and be sure to avoid the Trickery domain as much as possible.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players claim Gale’s “God ending” isn’t the best – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players claim Gale’s “God ending” isn’t the best Larian StudiosThough Gale’s “God ending” is often considered his best, some Baldur’s Gate 3 players think it may be his worst. The conclusion to Gale’s arc in Baldur’s Gate 3 can wrap up in about half a dozen different ways. Still, a contingent of players wants better for Gale, holding out hope that Larian will address their concerns in a future content patch. But there’s much debate about what serves as his “best” ending as things currently stand. The character’s ascent to the God of Ambition often comes up in such discussions. In this outcome, Gale becomes more powerful and gains new confidence in himself. Comments and such from other characters, however, indicate that not everyone likes Godhood Gale. And players seem think to the ascent doesn’t do him any favors, either. Baldur’s Gate 3 fans explain why God ending for Gale is “bad” Reddit user Binx_Thackery broached the topic in a post that’s gained a lot of traction. They note that throughout BG3, Gale cites a desire to help mortals as the primary reason for his Godly ambitions. Unfortunately, achieving such ends results in Gale becoming a hands-off kind of divine being who admittedly “offers his followers nothing.” According to the Redditor, Gale’s “godhood turns him into an egotistical hypocrite.” Dozens of other Baldur’s Gate 3 players shared their own thoughts on why Gale’s God ending isn’t exactly ideal. One person pointed out, “Gale might’ve become a god, but it’s in his ‘good’ ending where he actually becomes better.” The user continued, citing the sheer joy the character gets out of teaching as one of the reasons why the “Professor Gale” route is better. Someone else in the Baldur’s Gate 3 thread commented that Godhood only serves to feed into the wizard’s “delusions and self-doubt.” Another person who agreed with this sentiment argued “Gale’s ambition is fueled by a lack of self-worth,” suggesting his interest in getting better at magic stems from a belief that nothing else he can offer is worthwhile. Thus, much like Ascended Astarion, God Gale acquires “superficial freedom but corrupted himself to achieve it.” Suffice it to say, BG3 faithful have deeply considered what is and isn’t best for Gale Dekarios. It’s no wonder he remains a fan favorite.

Baldur’s Gate 3 forces custom firmware update on Xbox to fix bugged saves – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 forces custom firmware update on Xbox to fix bugged saves Baldur’s Gate 3Baldur’s Gate 3’s Xbox save bugs look to finally be at an end thanks to a purpose-built firmware update from Microsoft. 2023’s Game of the Year made a big splash when it was accidentally shadow-dropped after The Game Awards. Baldur’s Gate 3 lead Swen Vincke revealed he forgot to mention that the game was launching for Xbox that day. Unfortunately, Xbox players have had to deal with some growing pains since launch. Chief among them was a nasty bug that deleted entire save files, which in a game as massive as Baldur’s Gate 3 is a big problem. Those playing Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox can breathe a sigh of relief as it looks like a fix is finally on the Horizon. Larian Studios took to Twitter to announce that a firmware update is coming to Xbox consoles designed specifically to rectify the issue. “Microsoft have identified the cause of the save bug on Xbox, and will be issuing a firmware update to fix it!” Larian revealed. Baldur’s Gate 3’s development team had previously reported they were confident a solution could be found. The studio did qualify that they had not been able to test the update but expressed a great deal of faith in Microsoft. “Although we haven’t been able to independently verify this fix, we’re optimistic that Microsoft have gotten to the bottom of it,” Larian said. According to earlier digging from Larian, this particular issue was caused by saves not being properly written to the console’s disk. They offered a workaround involving the company’s cross-save service but this is the first proper solution. “You’ll be able to update your console manually on the 16th of January, or wait a week longer for the update to roll out globally,” Larian explained. This comes more than a month after the issue was initially reported. Hopefully, this is the end of Xbox players losing their Baldur’s Gate 3 save files and they can enjoy the game properly. Just be extra careful not to record any of the game’s raunchier scenes on the console, Microsoft has been issuing suspensions for that. Baldur’s Gate 3 fixes massive save files breaking the entire game – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fixes massive save files breaking the entire game Larian StudiosSome Baldur’s Gate 3 save files have turned out to be massive enough to break the entire game for some players. It’s no shock how big Baldur’s Gate 3 is, considering the infinite amount of content it has for players along with all the lore and RPG elements it offers. The game devs also teased Baldur’s Gate 3 has “17,000” variations of endings. As a result, big-sized save files are normal for this game. However, some save files have turned out to be massive which has caused to break entire Baldur’s Gate 3 for several players. The devs said, “many of you were doing so much in Baldur’s Gate 3 that some of your personal ‘story’ databases (where your choices and actions are stored) got too big.” Baldur’s Gate 3 save files will now have ‘infinite’ sizes To counter this very particular issue, Baldur’s Gate 3 devs have decided to make the save file size infinite. This obviously means it can be as infinite as the storage space in your system. They’ve opted for such a decision “to account for the sheer amount of things you’re all doing on your journeys.” They have deployed a Hotfix 2.1 on Steam and GOG, where they’ve re-enabled Larian Cloud savegames. This could be quite useful as it means players can restore a saved file from the cloud in case it gets corrupted or the game breaks, like in this case. From August 10, 2023, they’re also reactivating cross-saves as the game nears its PlayStation 5 launch. Here’s a rundown of all the changes included with Baldur’s Gate 3 Hotfix 2.1: Fixed an issue with save games that could occur if a save file grew too large. – Re-enabled Larian Cloud savegames. – Players facing issues with save files are recommended to update the game as soon as possible. This will eliminate many potential bugs and errors.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Fighter solos the game’s toughest boss in 2 turns – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 Fighter solos the game’s toughest boss in 2 turns Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 Fighters can seem underpowered compared to their spell-casting counterparts. Put those concerns to rest because one player has used the class (and a bunch of magic items) to brutalize the game’s hardest boss. Spoilers for Act 3 ahead. Baldur’s Gate 3 allows for some tremendously exciting min-maxing opportunities. Players have already stacked ridiculously high AP and used a combination of spells and D&D logic to make Owlbear nukes. That D&D logic also impacts the game’s 12 classes. Its adherence to the 5th edition ruleset means that Baldur’s Gate 3 Fighters suffer the same late-level drop-off in power that the martial classes do on the tabletop. This is usually mitigated through multi-classing. Don’t get us wrong, Fighters are still tough as nails in Baldur’s Gate 3 and one player has proven it beyond a doubt. Content creator Thorusin has uploaded a YouTube video in which they use a Fighter mulch an exceedingly tough late-game boss in just two turns. Using a Baldur’s Gate 3 Fighter to delete a boss To melt away Raphael’s 666 hitpoints, Thorusin relies on a few key items. Chief amongst them is the Gontr Mael, a legendary +3 bow that grants Haste (3 extra attacks) and the Guiding Bolt debuff to a target for free advantage rolls. It’s used in combination with an Amulet of Branding to apply a weakness to piercing damage for double damage. The final ingredient is Baldur’s Gate 3’s Fighter’s ability to pump out nine attacks in a single turn from a melding of Haste, Action Surge, and standard attacks. Thorusin starts by firing off an Arrow of Fiend Slaying dipped in Crawler Mucus Poison to paralyze Raphael. They then use a guaranteed crit from their Killer’s Sweetheart Ring for an impressive 122 damage and spend their remaining seven actions feathering Raphael with arrows. By the end of Thorusin’s Fighter’s first turn, Raphael has a measly 80 hit points remaining and can’t act due to paralysis. They clean up the rest on their second turn with an Arrow of Many Targets for a two-turn massacre. The disparity between Baldur’s Gate 3’s Fighter class and the other more magically inclined options can be easily remedied by their unparalleled actions per turn. No multi-classing needed. Our builds might not be as bone-crushingly broken as Thorusin’s but they’re definitely a help in your Baldur’s Gate 3 adventure. Check them out along with our other guides for the game. Baldur’s Gate 3 features a subtle FFXIV easter egg for MMO’s most heartbreaking moment – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 features a subtle FFXIV easter egg for MMO’s most heartbreaking moment Larian StudiosPlayers of the hugely popular Baldur’s Gate 3 have discovered a Final Fantasy XIV easter egg that calls back to one of the game’s saddest moments. One of the best aspects of the widely successful RPG Baldur’s Gate 3 is its sheer size. The game’s various maps are absolutely littered with people to meet, things to do, and enemies to slay. Because of this, the game’s multiple acts can take a good many hours to complete, meaning you’ll spend a lot of time with your party members. The game’s large size also makes it perfect for hiding tiny details and easter eggs, giving the most adventurous players a little treat for their efforts. Often times these can come in the form of items referring back to previous games, or even as achievements or dialogue delivered by the characters. It appears that Baldur’s Gate 3 has paid tribute to one of the most popular MMORPGs Final Fantasy XIV, leaving players absolutely devastated after reminding them about one of the game’s saddest moments. Baldur’s Gate 3 easter egg reminds FFXIV players of game’s saddest moment One of the inspirations players can gain as a Folk Hero in Baldur’s Gate 3 is titled “A Smile Better Suits…” Whilst this doesn’t seem like much on the surface, any FFXIV player would immediately recognize this line as one of the saddest and iconic of the Heavensward expansion. The line calls back to the character Haurchefant and their dying moments. The NPC who remained a stalwart friend throughout the expansion eventually saves the Warrior of Light with their shield, sacrificing themself in the process. Haurchefant, ever kind, comforts the distraught main character, speaking these words. “Oh do not look at me so. A smile better suits a hero…” This emotional culmination occurs right at the height of the Heavensward story, leaving FFXIV players devastated. Someone at Larian Studios must’ve thought similar, and implemented the dialogue to remind players of a friend once lost.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans want to will a Critical Role crossover into existence – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans want to will a Critical Role crossover into existence Larian Studios, Dimension 20Baldur’s Gate 3’s D&D roots mean there’s a lot of intersecting fandom when it comes to the game. Now, players are manifesting a Critical Role crossover with the game’s cast of VAs. Baldur’s Gate 3’s impressive recreation of D&D 5E mechanics has led to some fantastic in-game shenanigans. Players have been captivated by the creative solutions that their fellow gamers have concocted to handle all sorts of in-game encounters. Impressive feats like one-shotting a boss with capitalism, massacring a goblin village with chained explosions, or the infamous Owlbear from the top rope all come to mind. These types of tricks are actually transferable to the tabletop and it’s part of what makes D&D such a good time. Now fans on Baldur’s Gate 3’s Subreddit want to see how their favourite characters would perform on the tabletop and they’ve settled on the best way to do it. They’re desperate for a Critical Role one-shot with all the game’s voice actors reprising their roles. For the uninitiated, Critical Role is a massively popular D&D podcast that boasts its own animated adaptation on Prime Video. It features a cast of legendary voice actors with impressive pedigrees including roles in Naruto and Dragon Ball Z. Fans of both properties discussed expanded on the idea in a post from Reddit user u/Balrok99 who uploaded a screenshot of a YouTube comment with the initial suggestion. “The idea is on the internet now. We can will it to happen,” someone replied to the original comment. In the thread, users debated the format of the one-shot owing to the fact that Critical Role’s esteemed Dungeon Master Matt Mercer actually voices Minsc in Baldur’s Gate 3. Some suggested Mercer DM in character as Minsc but others had an even more interesting solution. “The obvious solution: Amelia Tyler,” commented one user referring to Baldur’s Gate 3’s spectacular narrator. While she’s played some D&D herself, it would take some work to helm such a highly visible campaign. The idea seems like a no-brainer given that Matt Mercer and the Critical Role team have done a number of similar one-shots to market games like World of Warcraft and Middle Earth: Shadow of War. The only real question is why it wasn’t done in the lead-up to release. Hope is there for the potential crossover as both the Critical Role team and the colorful cast of Baldur’s Gate 3 are set to appear at MCM Comic Con in London. While it likely won’t happen at the event given that schedules are already released, it’s a great place for a conversation.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans want Camp quality of life fixes in Patch 4 – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans want Camp quality of life fixes in Patch 4 Larian StudiosWith the next Baldur’s Gate 3 patch on the horizon, players are sharing the fixes they want to see – many of which involve the game’s Camp mechanics. It’s safe to say Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the best games of the year in terms of critical and fan reception, but even a masterpiece like this can use some work. Developer Larian Studios has so far released three major post-launch patches, plus various smaller hotfixes. These have added content, fixed bugs, implemented fan-requested features, and more. While Larian hasn’t announced what it is currently working on or what’s next for Baldur’s Gate 3, players are awaiting the inevitable Patch 4. Many have taken to Reddit to share what they would like to see from the next update, and it mostly boils down to quality-of-life fixes. Baldur’s Gate 3 players mainly want Patch 4 to implement equipment & party selection changes In a Reddit thread that points out changes on the Steam Database that mention Patch 4, players are sharing their personal wishlists for the update. Interestingly, several of the top responses all share a similar theme: improvements to mechanics related to Baldur’s Gate 3’s Camp. “The ability to adjust equipment in camp without having to add to party. Even if it’s only in camp,” the top comment suggests. Currently, you need to add a companion to your party to swap out their weapons and armor, which actually relates to another fan request. “I really wish they’d gone full [Dragon Age: Origins] style and had a party picker when you leave camp,” one fan said, referencing the party select screen that game had. “get that the dialogue method was probably chosen to make everything seem more natural and realistic, but having the same 2-tier conversation every time you want to organise your party gets old after literally the first time.” Outside of these Camp improvements, players are mainly asking for bug fixes. These include the add to/sell wares mechanic not working as intended and various issues related to Gale. It says a lot about the game that, at this point, Baldur’s Gate 3 players are really just looking for smaller changes that improve the overall experience. Rather than asking for major content additions, the fanbase generally seems to want quality-of-life fixes that make what’s already there even better. If you liked this, be sure to check out the rest of our Baldur’s Gate 3 coverage, which includes the latest news, guides, and much more.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans vote on next D&D world Larian should tackle – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans vote on next D&D world Larian should tackle Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 has been a raving success for Larian Studios, with players flocking to the Dungeons & Dragons game. Now, those same players are wondering what Larian may cover next. Naturally, there’s no telling what Larian Studios will do next, they may make another D&D game or they may sit back and let Baldur’s Gate 3 swim in its success, releasing the occasional patch or maybe even a DLC. However, that hasn’t stopped fans of the game from speculating and voting on the next D&D world Larian should explore. With so many D&D adventures lying in wait and such a vast world to explore, it’s easy to come up with your favorite adventure and wish for Larian to make a BG3-style game out of it. Despite this, after the community was asked which IP they want Larian to explore, one undeniably shone the brightest. Baldur’s Gate 3 fans beg Larian to make another D&D game Posting onto Reddit, Baldur’s Gate 3 fan Balrok99 asked the community: “What other IP would you give Larian to work with?” Sharing an image of Games Workshop essentially begging Larian to make a Warhammer game. Interestingly, despite the poster exploring their desire to see a Warhammer game by Larian, the comments were inundated with players begging for more D&D in their gaming lives. One user shared their thoughts, stating, “With the system they already created with dnd I think they can make more dnd adventures and settings, imagine stuff like CoS, Dragonlance, and Spelljammer.” Naturally, this idea sparked a huge debate, with over 4,000 comments discussing ideas for Larians next venture. Some fans loved the idea of creating new D&D adventures, instead hoping to see those worlds in Baldur’s Gate 3. One posted the idea that “If DLCs for BG3 was actually going to be a thing, just release modules. New, shorter, self-contained adventures.” However, despite the popular ideas, one player shared their dream Larian game, “I want them to make Curse of Strahd as a bg3-style game. That’s all I want.” This comment got over 1,200 upvotes at the time of writing and was by far the most popular suggestion. It’s clear the community would love to see a few more Astarions around. Or just be able to meet the charming yet deadly Strahd in video game form.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans uncover dialogue that makes Grove killing so much worse – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans uncover dialogue that makes Grove killing so much worse Larian StudiosOne Baldur’s Gate 3 fan may have stepped into a few details they didn’t want to know after taking the evil path of Act One. Just like Dungeons & Dragons, Baldur’s Gate 3 has some pretty dark choices and subject matter. Players are encouraged to explore everything they can and talk to everyone they come across, after all, you never know what you’ll learn about certain villains, allies, or even Gods. However, chatting to everyone you can also leads to players learning about aspects they’d much rather avoid. This is exactly what happened to one player, and it just makes the Grove killings so much worse. Disturbing Zurga conversation reveals the Grove tieflings’ true fate Sharing their discovery on Reddit, one user explained how the “Zurga commentary makes grove raid even worse.” They went on to highlight that: “If you speak to goblin Zurga near Minthara after the raid she will ask you about the taste of tiefling flesh. It implies that goblins are going to cook and eat the poor tiefs they killed. Jesus Christ…” While some players were shocked that the goblins were planning on eating the innocent tieflings, others explained how that’s actually pretty normal for the creatures. Even revealing that “They were cooking a dwarf from the Aradin’s party in their camp.” Others recoiled at this discovery, urging the players to “Just go full evil, and massacre the goblins after the raid.” However, in true Baldur’s Gate 3 form, many took to the comments to joke: “What, you want them to waste all that meat? You monster.” Some even wondered if “Tieflings are spicy” while another stated, “I imagine they taste mildly sulfurous and gamey.” While the community isn’t 100% sure on who the “monster” is in this rather dire situation, it’s clear that talking to everyone you can will always introduce some new information, for better or for worse.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans torn over new Minthara romance dialogue – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans torn over new Minthara romance dialogue Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 fans are torn over Minthara’s romance dialogue, many players unsure if the character’s reaction is realistic to her development. Baldur’s Gate 3 was one of the biggest games of 2023. As well as winning over the hearts of fans, the game swept the 2023 Game Awards, even winning out the main title as well as many other smaller awards. In light of the success of the game, Baldur’s Gate 3 has been able to maintain a dedicated fan base throughout 2024, with updates, changes and more bringing players back time and time again. And while most of these changes are praised by fans, one recent update has left fans torn. The moment in question being new and modified romance dialogue between the player and supporting character Minthara. In Baldur’s Gate 3, romance and companionship is a major part of the experience. Similar to the likes of Mass Effect and others, the BG3 community constantly go back and forth as to who the best romantic companion is as well as sharing unique dialogue of trying to romance characters that are unlikely options or who will simply reject the player. Previously, the romance involving Minthara was slammed by fans due to bugged dialogue and issues with actually romancing the character. In a new Reddit thread, one Baldur’s Gate 3 player shared brand new romance dialogue with the character Minthara, a companion character in Baldur’s Gate 3 and a Lolth-sworn drow Oath of Vengeance Paladin with the Noble background. This new dynamic to Minthara and the additional dialogue is something that fans are split over. One Baldur’s Gate 3 player commented, “I read some of the other comments here and I have to agree that this dialogue is very half/half on being consistent and inconsistent with her character. It’s consistent because, as it’s bluntly stated in the video, she’s all about acquiring power, whether through good or evil. However, it doesn’t make sense because acquiring the power of Bhaal as the Durge means becoming Bhaal’s slave and ruling the world according to his whims, not your own. This would include having Minthara be subject to your compulsions that originate from Bhaal.” Others added that, while the way in which Minthara shuts the player down to the idea of romance, if specific choices have been made throughout the game then the companion should be more open to the idea. Another player weighing in with their thoughts as well later on in the thread and stating the following. “You’re completely correct. I think her being initially baffled and angry with your decision would make sense to some degree, but it shouldn’t be impossible to convince her to see reason given her own opinions about serving gods and masters by this point. And that’s not even considering that this is an apocalyptic god that intends on having everyone murdered, including their chosen at the end of everything. Her signature pragmatism and wisdom is going out the window over a god that’s not even trying to hide it.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans think Larian missed key opportunity with Orin’s quest – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans think Larian missed key opportunity with Orin’s quest Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players are convinced Larian missed a trick when it comes to Orin’s shapeshifting questline. There’s a frustrating mystery behind Baldur’s Gate 3’s Orin questline, especially when it’s revealed that she’s actually presenting as one of your fellow party members. Typically, in a Dungeons & Dragons campaign, such a revelation would cause hours of suspicion and some serious detective work to figure out who the imposter was. According to players, in Baldur’s Gate 3, that suspicion is still there but doesn’t feel as strong as it could be. So, one fan has suggested a missed opportunity for Larian in regards to how they could have approached the quest line, and players are obsessed. Baldur’s Gate 3 fans think you should be able to accuse NPCs in Orins quest Sharing their idea on Reddit, one Baldur’s Gate 3 player posits that “you should be able to accuse everyone of being” Orin when she’s shapeshifted into one of your friends. The poster went on to joke about how you should be able to “accuse every NPC of being her. Your companions, Gortash…. yourself, and especially Orin herself.” They continued to provide a hilarious scene where you would confront Orin and call her out for being a shapeshifter. Many fans found the idea hilarious, commenting: “Watch, she’ll turn red any second now! Aaaaany second now… See? Red! No, wait, is that…blood? No, never mind.” However, others praised the player for their idea, explaining how they “would love a scene accusing yourself of being Orin.” Another commented: “I do find it odd that there is this big issue about an imposter being in your camp but you have no means to do anything about it.” This sentiment was echoed across the comments section, and many felt the Orin saga was a missed opportunity: “Kinda shocked and bummed out that the whole reveal that Orin replaced someone in camp didn’t amount to some kind of investigation segment to figure out which one of us was Orin.” Ultimately, while many love Orin and the shapeshifting plot, it’s clear fans were looking for something a little more intense or a longer investigation.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans stunned after missing key location – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans stunned after missing key location Larian StudiosThanks to one of the first major choices you have to make in Baldur’s Gate 3, so many players are discovering they’ve missed one key location, with many fans urging them to try it out. Baldur’s Gate 3 is a massive game, with hundreds of hours of content and an eyewatering amount of locations to visit and explore. Each location has its own stories, NPCs, and beautiful landmarks, meaning players can easily miss some key architecture. This is exactly what happened when one user shared an unmissable location they never stumbled into, and fans are kicking themselves for never checking it out. Baldur’s Gate 3 players discover they’ve missed one key location Sharing the location on Reddit, one user attached an image of Rosymorn Monastery, which many players will recognize as the location of the Githyanki Creche you can head to in Act One or the Mountain Pass you can travel if you go down that line. Along with the image, the player highlighted how they “almost missed this area” going on to say “this game is crazy.” While this isn’t exactly a hidden location, many players choose to listen to Halsin instead of Lae’zel and therefore never head over to the Creche. The comments were filled with players explaining how important it is to try out this avenue, with many detailing that “this is legit my favorite spot in game visually. It made me feel like I am standing there myself.” This location is so worth exploring, even if you have to go back and clear the Underdark first to get the best of both worlds so you can either explore the mountain pass or choose the Creche pathway in the first place. The poster wasn’t the only one to miss the location, with many saying: “Huh? I think I did miss it actually on my first playthrough. Now on second I’m in underdark, I want to finish both. Guess imma go and check it out now.” Ultimately, there are countless locations many players have missed, but the Creche is one every fan should explore at least once.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans slam player for making major artifact error – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans slam player for making major artifact error Larian StudiosA Baldur’s Gate 3 player has taken an unconventional approach to using the artifact, and other players are a bit confused by the plan. The artifact that Shadowheart takes from the Nautiloid is one of the most important items in the game, especially if you’re invested in Lae’zel and the Githyanki subplot. In Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3, possession of the artifact will have you on the run from both the Absolute cultists and the Githyaanki soldiers, and it’s also important to Shadowheart’s quest as well. However, one player decided to disregard these massively impactful story beats, and what’s more, they do it in a way that involves killing off one of the most popular characters in the game. Baldur’s Gate 3 player attempts to sell artifact after killing Shadowheart In a post on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, one player posted about how their partner went about the opening stages of the game, explaining how they killed Shadowheart in order to try and sell the artifact she carries during the first act. They said: “I started seeing a guy a few weeks ago, and introduced him to Baldur’s Gate and we’ve been playing together. Posts from the baldursgate3 community on Reddit “He started his own playthrough, and immediately killed Shadowheart after the nautiloid crash and asked me why he was unable to sell the artifact he looted from her corpse. “Oh sweet boy, how he has no idea how important that item is.” Several players suggested that Larian should change the game so that you can actually sell the artifact, with one player proposing: “They should make it sellable just for the f*ck around and find out moment.” For more news and updates on Baldur’s Gate 3, check out the player who might just have the worst luck in the game.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans say Patch 7 endings teaser makes update the “Definitive Edition” – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans say Patch 7 endings teaser makes update the “Definitive Edition” Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players have dubbed Patch 7 the “Definitive Edition” following a teaser unveiling its sinister new ending for evil Lae’zel runs. Patch 7 will introduce enhanced evil endings to BG3, catering to both Dark Urge and non-Dark Urge characters. These updates offer more intense and immersive conclusions for those pursuing evil runs. This major update promises to deliver an expanded array of darker endings for players. It will feature newly crafted cinematic cutscenes illustrating grim outcomes. Players can expect ominous visuals such as a Dark Urge character amidst a blood eclipse with corpses scattered around. On the BG3 Reddit, the teaser for Lae’zel’s new ending sparked enthusiasm among fans. Players quickly rallied behind the notion that Patch 7 marks the game’s definitive release. One Redditor noted, “Well, they have said patch 7 is the last of any real additional cutscenes and changes, and everything later is just bug fixes and mod support.” Another speculated on new gameplay mechanics, “Okay so that new ending circles around origin PCs mind-controlling others. I wonder if it means Wyll is going to mind-control Mizora.” Overall, Baldur’s Gate 3 players are excited about Patch 7 bringing new evil endings fleshed out with content and narration. That said, it seems like this update doesn’t tick all the boxes for everyone. Some players wish it included a “more playable Upper City” and crossplay. Larian Studios hasn’t officially announced the release of a Definitive Edition for Baldur’s Gate 3. Regardless, Patch 7’s introduction of dark elements seems set to intensify the game’s atmosphere. Plus, players seeking a challenge can look forward to enhanced difficulty modes – even if some decide to cheat on their Honor Mode runs. With this update, BG3 continues to evolve after its one-year anniversary. This sprawling RPG is delivering increasingly complex and chilling experiences, even after Larian decided to step away from any future DLC content.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans reveal why Durge is never taken seriously – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans reveal why Durge is never taken seriously Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 has a special Origin called the Dark Urge, also known as the Durge. However, players feel that nobody takes them seriously and they have found out why. Baldur’s Gate 3 has one of the most dedicated character customizations when it comes to depth. Every Origin you select in this game has a backstory and your personality is massively impacted by the background that you select to proceed with. One such Origin that you can choose to proceed with is Dark Urge whom players abbreviate as Durge. However, despite the violent nature, players feel that companions do not take them seriously if they decide to play with this special Origin. Baldur’s Gate 3 players feel nobody takes the Durge seriously The discussion surrounding this topic was started by a player named Zbearbear. The user claimed, “Durge coming clean about the Urge is just hilarious.” The continued, “I guess no one takes Durge seriously until they f*** around and find out. Also, evil Bard Durge is what I needed to commit. It’s fun.” The point that they are making is that Durge coming clean to others about their urge to cause harm is something that removes the dark aspect of the Origin. This results in others not taking them seriously, which leads to situations that are more hilarious than serious. Other players joined in the conversation as well with one of them commenting, “Everyone’s reactions are always the funniest part of act 1. Gale thinking he understands because he had a nasty thought once, Laezel being a true bro and saying she could find some goblins for you to carve up if you need it.” Another user chimed in, “Gale. Buddy. I love ya. But please stop trying to mansplain away my murderous impulses, this is why everyone makes fun of you.” One player also mentioned, “The party’s reactions to Durge are hilarious, lol. Even after you’ve brutally murdered Alfira they’re just like oh… well, just don’t do it again.” Lastly, a Reddit user claimed, “Just finished my own full evil Durge run yesterday! It was honestly super fun, but as soon as I was done I had to boot up a new good guy run cuz it just got soooo bleak by the end.” Therefore, it seems like a lot of players feel that the interaction of the companions with the Durge is quite funny. It takes away the seriousness of the Origin, but that is also part of Baldur’s Gate 3’s charm as all the companions have a different outlook on morality.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans reveal most-hated dialogue that makes their “blood boil” – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans reveal most-hated dialogue that makes their “blood boil” Larian StudiosThese lines of Baldur’s Gate 3 dialogue have captured players’ attention for all the wrong reasons. Larian Studios have claimed that the script for Baldur’s Gate 3 comes in at around 2 million words. Within the game’s dialogue, there are plenty of moments that can make players laugh, cry, or, as it turns out, seethe with rage. Whether delivered by a villain, an ally, or even the Narrator, there are just certain lines that get under your skin. Prompting the conversation, a player took to the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit to ask the community what line in the game they hate. Baldur’s Gate 3 players share lines that make them rage OP’s contribution was from Raphael in a scene where he makes some seriously skeevy comments about the Tiefling child, Mol: “What a lovely specimen she is. A blushing apple, begging to be picked.” Cue a collective “ew” from players everywhere. One commenter was similarly unsettled by the entirety of the post-Ascension Astarion script and said, “The VA delivers it perfectly, the dialogue is extremely well-written and it creeps me the fuck out. I’ve never been in an abusive relationship personally, but I’ve heard the abusive bfs of friends talk and Astarion sounds just like them.” A common point of tension was companions who go a little too hard on trying to escape the friend zone – an accusation mostly levied at Wyll, Gale, and Halsin. “I hate the line when you reject Halsin and he says “but you treated me like a lover” NO I did not. If you’ve barely interacted with the guy it comes over as gaslighting and creepy. Made me genuinely uncomfortable”, complained a player. Other Redditors were peeved by the telling off they receive from the Narrator when performing actions like stealing, looting corpses, or attempting to pick locks: “Usually [the line “Not for communal use, it seems”] is preceded by the game telling me I have to slaughter these people. Game, you were okay with my killing them, I should therefore be entitled to the loot.” While these lines have them seeing red, players praised this as being indicative of the game’s complex and often morally ambiguous characters and the “flawless” delivery from its voice actors.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans reveal key details you missed – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans reveal key details you missed Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 is massive, and even over six months since it was released fans are discovering key details you may have missed. An RPG like Baldur’s Gate 3 still reaching intense popularity and having such a dedicated fan base over six months after release is certainly rare – with video game giants like Skyrim, Red Dead, and The Witcher sharing in similar popularity. Part of the Baldur’s Gate 3 love is due to the beloved community, but the other is owed to the expansive gameplay, filled with hundreds of hours of storyline. In fact, the gameplay is so large that even now, players are missing key details in their playthroughs. Now, one fan has asked the community about those forgotten details, and players are stunned with what they’ve missed out on. Baldur’s Gate 3 players stunned after missed details revealed “What is something the community at large doesn’t know yet?” posted one user on Reddit. They added their own details, highlighting “Kagha’s shadow druids” and “Yurgir’s cat.” Kagha’s shadow druids is a hidden detail that largely explains her actions in the Druid Grove, and are a group you can meet depending on your actions. While Yurgir’s cat highlights the displacer beast and the sad things you can get Yurgir to do to his pet. While many didn’t know about either details, a few comments stood out, with thousands missing out on rare cutscenes and even reanimated versions of companions. “It’s possible to encounter zombified Minthara and Dror Ragzlin” commented one fan, going on to say how “you need to kill them in act 1, but be evil in act 2, have Isobel captured, and give dame Aylin to Balthazar. Then in the illithid colony, Balthazar will be here, with minthara and Dror as zombies.” One player revealed that “you can trigger a rare cutscene by showing Isobel a picture of Ketheric” – what the cutscene displays will be for you to find out in your next playthrough. Another revealed how you can head to Ketheric before his boss battle: “You can fly up to the top of Moonrise Towers, kill all of Ketheric’s necromites, kill his one friend, steal the chest items, and pickpocket him, long before you confront him.” While you may not be able to kill him, you can certainly make the battle easier by ending all his allies and pickpocketing his key items.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans praise devs for being “ridiculously” good ahead of new update/patch Larian StudiosBaldur’ Gate 3 has hit the ground running when it comes to popularity among the fans. However, the developers have shown no signs of stopping in improving the game and fans are quite excited about it. Baldur’s Gate 3 has been one of the most successful games of all time according to scores from both players as well as reviewers. However, just because it has been really good at launch does not mean that the developers are stopping as they are releasing patches to keep improving the game. While it is true that other companies like FromSoftware have also shown similar dedication for over a decade, players right now are extremely impressed by Larian and how they are doing their jobs. Baldur’s Gate 3 players are overwhelmed by the care received from developers The discussion regarding the work of the developers was started by a Reddit user named japenrox who claimed that “being treated like an actual human being, and not like a cash cow is just an incredible feeling” as they feel overwhelmed by the work from Larian studios. One player also commented “I’ll gladly pay for any DLC that they wanna release for it” as they want to support the developers for their hard work. Lastly, a player commented “I will buy the game a second time on ps5 to play with some other friend” as they are waiting for its release on the console after being overwhelmed by the support from the developers.

Baldur’s gate 3 fans in shambles after devs’ trolling of Patch 6 release – Dexerto
Baldur’s gate 3 fans in shambles after devs’ trolling of Patch 6 release LarianThe Baldur’s Gate 3 community expected a new patch today. Instead, they got some trolling from the devs. The fanbase for Baldur’s Gate 3 has been eagerly awaiting the release of the game’s next big update, Patch 6, ever since it was announced. Due to the focus on romance additions in the patch’s marketing, many assumed the patch would release on Valentine’s Day. However, this was not the case, and instead, the devs gave the players a healthy dose of trolling, leaving them in shambles. Baldur’s Gate 3 fans in shock after devs’ Patch 6 trolling Throughout the day, the Baldur’s Gate 3 community was wondering if or when the Patch 6 would drop, but it never came. To confirm this, an X post from the devs themselves was shared to the game’s subreddit, in which they wish the players: “Sweet dreams.” Alongside this caption is an image of the children’s character, Pingu, tucking into bed. Naturally, the Baldur’s Gate 3 fans are losing it over this news, mainly because they can’t help but respect it. “Whoever runs the social media accounts for Larian, knows EXACTLY what they’re doing. They know exactly what buttons to press to keep millions of eyes on them. They know how to leverage the goodwill the company has in a fun and funny way.” Many commented on how they both hate and love this trolling from the dev team. Others are pointing out that the Valentine’s Day release date was only a conjecture and was never officially confirmed by the devs. “This is what happens when the community gets hung up on a release date that was never announced. The Larian PR team is doing great here.” The patch not releasing today is certainly a bummer for many Baldur’s Gate 3 fans, but it is clear that the devs have not lost any goo dwill with their playerbase.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans in disbelief at player who’s racked up 1600 hours – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans in disbelief at player who’s racked up 1600 hours Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 is officially available as a full game and players are putting in countless hours. However, it seems someone took the idea of putting in hours a bit too seriously and fans are mindblown about this. Baldur’s Gate 3 is a complicated RPG, which means that playing the game and finishing it takes time. However, a YouTuber named Kazuliski posted about their achievement where they have already clocked 1600 hours in the game. They have also completed all the 53 Steam achievements. This has led to other players being startled as some of them have put in 150 or 200 hours and are feeling quite good about it. In fact, Larian Studios also congratulated the player and thanked them for putting in such an incredible amount of time. Baldur’s Gate 3 fans are startled by the 1600 hours put in by a player The original post regarding this was put forth by a Baldur’s Gate 3 content creator named Kazuliski. They posted a screenshot of their Steam page which showcased 1600 hours of playtime with all 53 achievements being sealed and done. This led to fans being stunned and the post reached far and wide as it currently sits with 146k views, 3261 likes, and 50 quotes. One such fan commented “That playtime…I’m in trouble” as they were startled by the investment by Kazuliski. Another player quote responded by saying “That playtime. I’m only at over 200 hours… oh I’m going to be doomed.” as they realized that the time Kazuliski had put in outshines their own. One player even challenged others claiming “Lets see the BG 3 ponies top this 1,606.4 hours played”. Lastly, a player reacted to this by saying “And I thought my 200ish hours was a lot” as they received a reality check when it comes to time investment.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans impressed by devs’ new Shadowheart kiss tease – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans impressed by devs’ new Shadowheart kiss tease Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 fans have been impressed by Larian’s teaser of a new Shadowheart kiss scene coming to the game. Baldur’s Gate 3 lets you take on the game in almost any way you want. Whether that be as a noble Paladin or a wise Archmage, the game essentially lets you pick and choose your way through the multiple-act story. This is easily one of the game’s biggest strengths and is one of the reasons why players fell in love with it when it was released in 2023. Of course, choosing how you want to play also involves choosing what companion you might want to get down and dirty with. Baldur’s Gate 3 players have already expressed their adoration for the game’s colorful cast, with the likes of Astarion, Karlach, and Shadowheart tugging on players’ heartstrings. Therefore it’s no surprise that players were elated to see God’s favorite princess Shadowheart receive a new kiss scene. Players were taken aback by how perfect Shadowheart’s new kiss scene was with Lae’Zel. Shadowheart coyly stated, “I suppose you’ve earned it” before snaking her way around a very confused Lae’Zel, homing in on her prey. Before long the pair’s lips met and fans were ecstatic. “That’s so extra, lmao. Shadowheart being dramatic af,” one player laughed. “Lmao they did not hold back, I love how it’s so over the top at the start,” another agreed. Despite the general adoration for the kiss, some fans disagreed, arguing the show of affection looked “weird and stupid”. It’s likely the devs have more cutesy scenes in the works for players, with Larian still updating Baldur’s Gate 3 and dragging players back into the Forgotten Realms.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans feel “dumb” for completely missing major vampire feature – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans feel “dumb” for completely missing major vampire feature Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 fans are shocked to learn that there are multiple ways to deal with the vampire mechanics in the game, rather than just being fed on every night. In Baldur’s Gate 3, the player is quickly introduced to Astarion, an elven vampire who has implanted with an illithid tadpole. While the tadpole will eventually transform everyone into a monster, it provides a surprising benefit, as Astarion is now immune to sunlight. Astarion isn’t free from all of his vampiric curse, however, as he still must feed on blood. The protagonist will eventually learn Astarion’s secret and offer to provide blood for him, giving them the Bloodless debuff and providing Astarion with the Happy buff. Most players who use Astarion in their party will happily give him their blood, but there are numerous methods for helping out the vampire in the group. Astarion’s vampire mechanics in Baldur’s Gate 3 have several easy workarounds A user on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit has pointed out that Astarion’s Bite attack not only works on enemies, but can be used on other party members in the camp to provide blood. Other users also pointed out easy workaround for giving Astarion his fix. “You can also park a hireling in your camp just for biting,” one user writes, while another said, “Unless something changed, you can sneak an NPC and bite them. It doesn’t do damage if you’re sneaking or the NPC is asleep. Act 1, the trader near the entrance of the grove is great for that.” A few fans also pointed out another solution: the Lesser Restoration spell. This level 2 Cleric spell removes the Bloodless condition. If you find the Amulet of Silvanus in the Druid Grove or Shadowheart reaches level 3, then this spell can be used to remove the debuff inflicted by Astarion’s hunger. Astarion’s Bite attack can also be used in combat, allowing him to feed on enemies, but this means he needs to enter melee range and burn a Bonus Action, all for a tiny amount of damage. It’s better to rely on one of the tricks mentioned above than to mess around with biting enemies. Astarion is an exceptional Rogue in a game full of trapped chests and locked doors, so most people will use him in their party, even if they can’t stand his character. These blood bank methods mentioned above are a great way to satisfy him without weakening the protagonist.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans fall in love with “adorable” IRL Scratch Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 has a dog that follows you and travels to your camp. The name of this dog is Scratch, and players have recently come across a real-life version of that animal that they have fallen in love with. Baldur’s Gate 3 has many unique species that players have often fallen in love with. However, one that almost everyone adores in the game is the dog named Scratch. This dog is a camp follower and you can find him in the forest in Act One. However, players have recently come across a dog in the real world that looks exactly like Scratch. As expected, fans are in love with this real-life version of the dog and they find it both adorable and wholesome. Baldur’s Gate 3 fans cannot get enough of IRL Scratch The discussion surrounding the topic was started by a Reddit user who they posted a picture of a dog that looks exactly like Scratch. They also claimed the following, “Met the best boy irl today.” As it happens, other users loved the IRL version of Scratch and showered the post with lovely comments. One such user commented, “What lie of a name is he going by at the moment?” Another user chimed in, “Did Sayaka bring you any Potions of Animal Speaking?” One user enquired about the breed of the dog with the comment, “What breed is your friend’s dog? I’ve been trying to figure out which breed Scratch is based on, and while the oft-cited Berger Picard seems close, Scratch is far less shaggy around the face and muzzle.” Finally, a player mentioned, “you need to make the game collar – that would be awesome lol.” Therefore, it is safe to say that players are completely in love with this real version of Scratch. Almost every comment was related to how adorable the dog is, and each of them had a witty remark about the situation. This is one of the key reasons why players love this game as it creates memories that resonate even in the real world.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans enraged as Wyll actor appears to be snubbed at MCM panel – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans enraged as Wyll actor appears to be snubbed at MCM panel @onakita / Larian StudiosWyll actor Theo Solomon was allegedly bypassed during a Baldur’s Gate 3 panel, in a move which fans are calling “disrespectful.” The love that the Baldur’s Gate 3 community holds for the game’s characters has extended into a love for those who helped bring them to life. While fans certainly sing the praises of the development team at Larian Studios, a significant fandom has formed around the voice actors of Baldur’s Gate 3. Whether it’s through meet and greets, streams or panels, Baldur’s Gate 3 players are always eager to get a behind-the-scenes look at the beloved CRPG. For the most part, this goes off without a hitch. However, this isn’t always the case, as seen during a recent Baldur’s Gate 3 voice actor panel at MCM London Comic Con. Baldur’s Gate 3 fans “ready to go to war” for Wyll’s VA During the panel on Saturday, October 28, the panelists were invited to share their experiences of how they landed their roles. As this progressed, X user @onakita uploaded clips of each of their responses, numbering each of them as they posted. Curiously, when they reached the seventh and final panelist, there was no video attached. This was because, according to them, the “presenter didn’t give him [a] chance to tell his story.” The panelist was Theo Solomon, who plays Wyll. Providing additional context, the X user claimed that instead of allowing Theo to provide his story, the panel presenter said they would be going straight to audience questions due to time constraints. This decision has not gone down well with fans, some of whom have adopted the phrase “Justice for Wyll” to express their upset. “I was waiting for Theo to tell us his story and the interviewer didn’t even let him!! I hate it so much!!” one player commented. The sentiment carried over to Theo’s Instagram, where the top comment on his most recent post read: “I hope you know that you have the entire BG3 Fandom ready to go to war for you over on Twitter. We all still very much want to hear your whole experience!” Theo addressed the controversy on his Twitch on October 30 saying, “Honestly, guys. I didn’t feel slighted or anything like that. […] In group interviews, I’m very chilled and very laidback, you know what I mean? It maybe came across like the interviewer didn’t give me a chance but I’m just very relaxed.” While the actor denies feeling any ill will, he says appreciates the intensity of fans’ response: “I’m feeling the love. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans discover how to keep Karlach after destroying Grove – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans discover how to keep Karlach after destroying Grove Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players have just discovered how to keep hold of Karlach after choosing to destroy the grove in Act One. Just like typical Dungeons & Dragons, any choices you make in Baldur’s Gate 3 have a direct impact on how your companions view you. So, if you’re evil, then good companions like Karlach will start to dislike you. If they hate you too much then they end up leaving the camp and therefore your game for good. Destroying an entire grove of tieflings and innocent NPCs is undeniably evil, even if you’re doing it to get hold of Minthara. Naturally, by doing this, it’s entirely likely that Karlach will end up hating your character so much that she’ll leave unless you do it like this. Baldur’s Gate 3 player reveals how to keep Karlach after destroying Grove Posting their discovery on Reddit, one user explained to the community how they found “a way to keep these 2 after I commit genocide for a beautiful princess with a disorder,” referring to Karlach, Wyll, and Minthara respectively. They went on to say explain how they managed this: “First: Leave Karlach and Wyll back at the camp. After raiding the grove, go to camp and kill Karlach and Wyll, then tell Withers to take care of them or something. This will make their spirit and body linger around camp. Do NOT resurrect them yet.” Then, they revealed one key NPC that’ll help your cause: “Second: Go recruit Scratch. Third: Wait til Scratch arrives at camp. Fourth: Pet scratch.” Shortly after doing this, even though they’re dead: “You will see the notif pop up ‘Karlach approves’. This will increase your points with her to a level where she will no longer leave. You can now resurrect Karlach and have them join the party. I suspect it is possible to do this with other camp interactions that Karlach and Wyll would approve of.” It’s worth noting that the player only tried this on Karlach, and therefore assumed that it would work with Wyll. Others explained that they “think this only works for Karlach. For some reason, Wyll is hardcoded to leave as soon as you start the raid, even if he is dead/stored at withers/hidden in camp chest/etc.” So it’s likely you’ll only be able to keep hold of one key Companion. Either way, as compromises go, it’s likely not the kindest, but it keeps Karlach in your party and lets you pet the dog, so it’s not all bad.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans disappointed by massive lack of Wyll content – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans disappointed by massive lack of Wyll content DexertoFans of Baldur’s Gate 3 companion and Origin character Wyll Ravengard are saddened by the huge absence of content for him. Larian Studios has revealed new evil endings for the upcoming Patch 7, including ones for Origin characters like Lae’zel and Astarion. A Reddit user with early access to the patch has shared Wyll’s new ending, and discerning fans have noticed that it’s nearly the same as the evil Tav ending. This has led Wyll fans to speak up online about the developers’ lack of attention when it comes to him compared to his fellow companions. One Redditor made a meme about Wyll’s new Patch 7 ending and how his fans are being shafted. Another felt that the ending was a missed opportunity. “Not having Evil Wyll force Mizora to kneel before him? Not conquering the hells to purge the ‘evil’ from all the lands,” the comment questioned. In a separate Reddit post, one player argued that Wyll was “setup to fail,” explaining how Astarion’s ending looked when pitted against Wyll’s ending: “I like Astarion but jeez! I love that he gets another unique cinematic, so much attention and not even a drop for Wyll.” While Wyll’s evil run will end with him turning everyone into illithids, Astarion’s evil finale will have him name himself a “Sun King”, gaining control of the light and darkness around him. Other Reddit users were just as upset by the lack of care for Wyll’s character in these upcoming updates. “Wyll’s treatment is just disappointing. I’m not mad. It makes me sad,” said one commenter. Players didn’t just notice this mistreatment through the Patch 7 endings but have tracked it throughout the game’s development and release. One of the replies explained how buggy Wyll was, not even knowing if he had a contract with Mizora during their Act 3 playthrough. Some fans figured that Wyll’s mishandling could’ve been due to his character being rewritten and re-voiced during Early Access. “I wouldn’t be surprised if his treatment is just a reflection of the change they felt forced to make to make people happy after they complained about it,” one fan said. Baldur’s Gate 3 devs’ supposed lack of care when it comes to Wyll’s character arc has been unfortunately apparent to players for a while, but it’s good to see those who adore the Blade of Frontiers stick up for him.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans defend Wyll after player explains why they kicked him out – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans defend Wyll after player explains why they kicked him out Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players are coming to Wyll’s defense after a Reddit post accusing the character of discrimination garnered attention. It’s no surprise that a game like Baldur’s Gate 3 would leave players incredibly invested in their personal favorite characters. While companions like Astarion and Shadowheart are obvious favorites, even more divisive characters have their defenders. This is something that’s been made even more clear after one player shared their dislike of the Origin character and potential companion Wyll. The admission prompted plenty of responses (and various jokes) from fans who were quick to defend the Blade of Frontiers and argue that the player had misinterpreted his character. Note, spoilers for Wyll’s storyline to follow. Wyll fans say haters misunderstand his character and storyline The outpouring of Wyll love was prompted by a post on the BaldursGate3 subreddit titled “Why I kicked Wyll out of my party.” In it, the poster explains how Wyll frustrated them while playing as a tiefling, calling him a hypocrite for making a deal with the cambion Mizora and accusing him of prejudice for “saying to my face that his horns make him too fugly to socialize.” Of course, Wyll fans did not stand for the slander. Many pointed out that Wyll’s sadness over his transformation comes from being publicly marked as someone who made a deal with a devil, not an inherent dislike of those with horns like tieflings. In fact, Wyll’s horns are said in-game to make some of the tieflings in the Grove uncomfortable, as his devilish horns remind them of those who enslaved them in Avernus. This led one commenter to note, “OP is literally complaining that Wyll isn’t being racist by equating Tiefling with devil.” Others pointed out that, even if Wyll “chooses to be mopey and sad” and “Kills the vibe of my Tiefling party,” all of the companions have their flaws and can be annoying. As one player puts it, “Lae’zel is outright racist to the Tieflings, Shadowheart is constantly making snide remarks, Astarion literally tries to kill you.” This even led to a post parodying the original, with a user jokingly explaining why Wyll might want to kick the player-made avatar out of the party. While there are valid criticisms of Wyll’s character development and relative lack of content in comparison with other companions, most seem to appreciate what is there. Wyll is one of the few characters in Baldur’s Gate 3 who is simply nice, and many find the fact that he made his pact in a desperate and selfless attempt to save his home to be tragic and a welcome departure from most Warlock stories that center on ambition and lust for power. All this serves as a reminder to those criticizing characters on the internet that the fans will find you.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans declare it the “best RPG experience” ever thanks to freedom – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans declare it the “best RPG experience” ever thanks to freedom Larian StudiosLarian Studios are well known for their expansive RPGS, from Divinity Original Sin to the more recent Baldur’s Gate 3. Now, fans are celebrating the “amazing” freedom of choice present in the extremely popular BG3. Freedom of choice is nothing new for Larian Studios, but fans are now celebrating the outstanding efforts produced by the game, allowing players “openness and freedom of choice” throughout their playthroughs. This, in turn, delivers some fantastic stories and introduces a standard for RPGs many may hold over other upcoming titles. Taking a leaf out of Dungeons & Dragons, Baldur’s Gate 3 is filled with an expansive storyline, tons of lovable (and hateable) companions, and so much to do. In fact, the amount players can do seems to be both overwhelming and extremely impressive for most players, with some calling the game “the best experience I’ve had in an RPG.” Players adore the “openness and freedom” of Baldur’s Gate 3 Posting onto Reddit, one user shared their love for the game, stating, “I’ve gotta hand it to team…The openness and freedom of choice/creativity for dealing with scenarios in this game is by far the best experience I’ve had in an RPG in, literal, years.” They went on to provide an example of their creativity which we won’t detail here because of spoilers. Shortly after, they ended their praise with: “Thank you, Larian team, for finally delivering a crpg that actually gives us the freedom to choose our own path/approach and doesn’t feel like there are bumpers in the gutter to make us find how the designers *intended* for us to approach the story.” Shortly after posting, the opinion garnered a ton of support, with thousands of players swarming in to agree with the writer. “Larian outdid themselves” mirrored one player, who seems to be thrilled that they can experience “a game where something actually seems to matter, and you see it reflected later on in the game too.” Others agreed, highlighting how much they “love that,” going on to exclaim that “the possibilities are amazing.”Particularly when highlighting all the ways you can get through a combat or social situation. Along with praise reading the choices, others took to the comments to express their love for the games honestly and bluntness, explaining how “it’s maybe the first crpg ever with no level of abstraction required, everything works exactly as the spell text says,” making the game easier to understand, and arguably more enjoyable to play. It’s clear that Baldur’s Gate 3 has been a huge hit, garnering love from all angles, which likely explains why so many people are playing it and why so many consider it to be so “amazing.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans debate Wyll’s “monstrous” Act 1 transformation – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans debate Wyll’s “monstrous” Act 1 transformation Larian StudiosOne of the earliest conflicts in Baldur’s Gate 3 involves Wyll and his devil form, but some members of the Baldur’s Gate community have sparked a debate on whether he was supposed to be more monstrous. In Act 1, players have to resolve a conflict between the Warlock companion and Karlach. Depending on how it shakes out, Wyll will take on a much more devilish appearance for the remainder of the game. He will grow two large, curved horns out the top of his head, his left eye will become black with a red iris, and his face will take on a gaunt appearance. Wyll’s reaction to the change is drastic but he will continue to adventure with the party nonetheless. However, some BG3 fans have speculated that perhaps Wyll’s devil form was supposed to be a much more hideous, drastic change compared to the final version. “Was Wyll originally supposed to look even more…monstrous,” one fan asked the BG3 community on the game’s subreddit. The player explained, “In the party after the Tieflings leave the grove, he refuses to join because of what Mizora made him look like but…he just looks like a Tiefling without a tail? If anything he already looked odd with his definitely not a sending stone eye.” The post started a discussion among players about Wyll’s character and why the change had such an impact on him. “It’s more than just his looks. His secret is out, he made a deal with a devil and it now shows,” explained one user. “Him looking like others is not what he is worried about it’s people will now know that he is a phony and that he is no longer human but a creature that is normally feared.” Another player explained Wyll’s point of view in a different context. “Imagine a pest control guy getting transformed into a rat. The very thing he has spent his career in killing..mortified.” The OP wasn’t alone in their original critique, however, as some did think Wyll’s transformation could have been a bit more extreme. “I think there are mods that give him more cambion-like features (like sharper teeth and pointier ears), but what they really should’ve done is give him wings and a tail,” said one player. While Wyll’s character arc changed quite a bit from the early access period, his appearance remained unchanged. Those looking for a more devilish Wyll in future playthroughs may want to seek out community mods to get their fill.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans debate merit behind ‘slutty’ rare achievement – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans debate merit behind ‘slutty’ rare achievement Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 fans are divided over the decision to earn one of the rarest achievements in the game by romancing the Emperor. There are multiple layers to Baldur’s Gate, with different twists and turns throughout the storyline. All of which can be carefully curated by the player through their choices and actions. Romancing different, or multiple, characters in Baldur’s Gate has been a hot topic since the game’s release in August. Players have debated who the best characters are to romance and which have the best stories to tell. However, one romanceable character is the most controversial among players, with only 4.4% of the player base opting to do so. Baldur’s Gate player shows rare romancing achievement In a post on the official Baldur’s Gate subreddit, one player shared that they had gotten an achievement titled ‘Mind Blown’ for romancing the Emporer towards the end of the game. Something that the achievement boasts only 4.4% of players have achieved. “Was this a prudish choice,” asked the poster. “I’m too slutty to understand.” While the other romanceable characters see a lot of love from players throughout the game, the Mind Flayers are the most controversial. Some players beneath the post say they did it only for the achievement, while others say they did it for the experience. Although the idea of sleeping with a purple-tentacle being was revolting to some of the replies, the idea of sleeping with their Guardian’s form instead was a bit more tantalizing. Which the game presents as yet another option for players to tell their own stories.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans convinced Karlach’s story will be fixed next patch – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans convinced Karlach’s story will be fixed next patch Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 fans are convinced that they’ll see a key change to Karlach’s story in the next major patch. Baldur’s Gate 3 took the gaming world by storm for a multitude of reasons. The first is due to its lengthy and highly detailed storyline. Another reason is its long period in early access, which allowed the game to be polished to perfection, and the last is the attentiveness of its developers. Larian Studios has spent months bringing extensive patches to the game and fixing all the bugs players have pointed out. However, they have also made it their mission to implement highly demanded features. Now, fans think they may have predicted the next major feature to be added. Baldur’s Gate 3 players think Karlach story fix is coming soon Sharing their praise on Reddit, one user revealed a theme they’d spotted with the community. “When Larian listened, they listen well,” they wrote, revealing all the major changes Larian Studios had made in recent patches. They went on to explain how “This is just to perk some attention to the fact that all the most requested features seem to either have been confirmed or datamined thus far – all but one” referring to the highly controversial ending for the lovable companion, Karlach. Her ending is pretty much a lesser of two evils, and many fans think she deserves better, which could hint towards some major changes soon. Many took to the comments to both praise Larian and demand justice for Karlach: “I’m halfway through Act 3 with Karlach as my happy ragey red waifu and I don’t want to continue because I’ve a feeling there’s nothing I can do to save her from Avernus… Fix Karlach’s engine, you monsters! (but also your game is amazing and I love you and all the work you’ve done).” Naturally, there’s no real proof regarding this idea, and for many, it would be a major rewrite of the ending, but if Larian’s history with the game is anything to go by, we may just see our beloved Tiefling getting the ending she deserves. Although there are no promises.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans claim key mercenaries are “worst group of guards ever” – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans claim key mercenaries are “worst group of guards ever” Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 has a certain kind of guard known as the Flaming Fist. As it happens, players feel this mercenary group is arguably one of the worst guards to ever exist in a game. Baldur’s Gate 3 is a massive world filled with dangers everywhere. Therefore, you will often find the wealthy NPCs in the game will hire guards to protect themselves from harm. However, there is one group of guards whom players believe is the worst to ever exist. This particular group is called the Flaming Fist and you will come across them quite a few times during your journey. Unfortunately, whenever you see them, they will be barely holding onto their lives and mostly failing in their missions. Baldur’s Gate 3 fans feel the Flaming Fist is the worst group of guards ever The discussion regarding the topic was initiated by a Reddit user named Petallus. This user claimed, “Throughout the entire game, every time you meet them (Flaming Fist) they’re either barely holding down peace, in a losing fight, or just straight up dead.” They continued, “Waukeen’s Rest burned down and the Duke was kidnapped. The whole Blighted Village and Goblin Camp don’t even concern them apparently. The Shadowlands are completely held together by the Harpers and the Flaming Fist in Last Light is actually a double-agent and tries to kidnap their leader!” They concluded with the statement, “They have basically no hold on Baldur’s Gate to the point where they’re having trouble with squatters; the Steel Watch has effectively replaced them as the city guard.” Other users also joined in the conversation as a lot of them have the exact same feelings. One such player mentioned, “They’re a private military force contracted to guard the city. Corruption is pretty common place among their ranks. They’re not really the worst guards ever, but they’re about what you can expect when you have a PMC as a police force.” Another player chimed in, “Pretty sure this is just the way the game is. Pretty much every faction/group is useless until your party shows up.” One player also claimed, “They are all over the place in terms of when they are on your side or not.” Finally, a player commented, “Disappointed I didn’t hear the ‘I serve the Flaming Fist’ line from the first games!” Therefore, it seems like Flaming Fists are mercenaries who get hired by others. As a result, they have no obligation to enhance their efforts in any given situation. In addition to that, most players agree they are not very useful, but there is not a lot you can do about that.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans can’t get over hilarious Shadowheart bug – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans can’t get over hilarious Shadowheart bug Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 has proven to be an immensely detailed game that was always likely to experience some bugs. Despite Larian Studios’ impressive attempts at polishing, one portrait bug has snuck through, and it’s hilarious. In a post on social media, one player shared a screenshot from their game in which Shadowheart’s portrait is bugged. Instead of the usual stylized image, she stares directly at the camera with a tiny head. This hasn’t impinged on the gameplay, but the OP was keen to find a fix if there was one. In the end, the problem was rectified simply by swapping her out of the party and then back in, restoring the portrait to its usual state. Many in the community shared their theories for why Shadowheart looked like this. One said, “‘The Kubrick Stare’ is one of director Stanley Kubrick’s most recognizable directorial techniques. A method of shot composition where a character stares at the camera with a forward tilt, to convey to the audience that they are at the peak of their derangement.” Another added their slightly disturbing bug experience, “I had a bug where instead of the character creation screen, I was given rows and columns of different male body types available in the game. They were all naked with no hair, just standing around, facing the same direction. I wish I took a screenshot of that.” Despite these small gripes, Baldur’s Gate 3 has had little to answer for regarding bugs or glitches. Larian Studios has announced it’s moving on to other projects, though will continue to support the game for now. We should soon be able to see if any more issues arise as maintenance on the game winds down in the coming months.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans can’t decipher devs’ cryptic meme – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans can’t decipher devs’ cryptic meme Larian StudiosThe devs behind Baldur’s Gate 3 shared a cryptic meme related to the release of Patch 6, and the community doesn’t know what it means. The fans of Baldur’s Gate 3 have been anxiously awaiting the release of the game’s next big update, Patch 6. The update is set to bring a big batch of new content, including some additions to romancing, which led many to believe the patch would release on Valentine’s Day. However, the Baldur’s Gate 3 community isn’t sure about that anymore after a cryptic meme by the devs themselves. Baldur’s Gate 3 players don’t understand dev’s meme The meme was originally posted on X, where a fan asked if they would drop the update today. The devs responded with an image of the character Withers, and the simple caption of, “No.” This was then shared to the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, where the players are quickly trying to understand what it means. “Did they ever actually commit to a specific date for the patch, or did they just say it would be this week and people assume that the kissing stuff meant they’d release on Valentine’s Day?” The response to the possibility of the update not releasing today is rather split, with some players okay with it while others view it as a marketing mistake. “They should drop the patch when it’s ready. But it was a blunder on their part to suggest it’d be a Valentine’s Day patch and then not drop it on Valentine’s Day. Some people are pausing their playthrough to wait for the update.” Many others point to how the devs have been hinting at Valentine’s Day through the patch’s marketing, and claim that missing that date would be a disappointment. However, others think they are just being facetious and joking around with the person asking the question. “Could just be a joke, like the Pingu, ‘Well now I am not doing it’ reply when someone called it would be Valentine’s Day focused,” one fan said. This could very likely be it as well, or the update will be coming a different day. Regardless, the Baldur’s Gate 3 community is sure to be eating up any hint the devs may give.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans call out lack of variety in Companions races – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans call out lack of variety in Companions races Larian StudiosSince its full release, Baldur’s Gate 3 has been an incredibly popular title, with tons of fan support – but not all elements are popular, especially when it comes to Companions. With tons of quests to complete, places to explore, secrets to unlock, and Companions to romance or find, it’s clear many Baldur’s Gate 3 players are still deep into the world of Faerun. However, such a long storyline has encouraged players to take a step back and in some cases, question the decision of Larian’s game design. One major example of this is Companions and their lack of diversity, particularly when it comes to their chosen races and the implementation of such a choice on both the player and the exploration. Baldur’s Gate 3 players call for more Companion variety Posting onto Reddit, one user shared the races of all the ten companions in the game, highlighting how “5 are elves”, “3 are human” and “only two are kind of different races” in the form of a Tiefling and a Githyanki. They then went on to ask the community “Doesn’t it feel like we could use some diversity?” Then they provided their own ideas about “seeing a Dwarf Companion or a Half-Orc” taking their place as key factors to the story. Shortly after posting, the question quickly took off, with thousands of upvotes and comments alike. Many shared the same confusion and frustration, with one explaining how they were “very surprised we never got a dwarf or any small companions. Considering all the hidey holes small characters can go through.” After all, most players have to use their shapeshifting hat or other spells to explore those locations. Some players shared their disappointment with a certain Baldur’s Gate 3 Companion design, sharing how felt “stunned and disappointed we didn’t get an over-the-top stereotypical dwarf.” Hinting towards the relationship between certain Lord of the Rings characters as a reference. While tons loved the idea of a Dwarf companion, many ended up reminiscing about Helia, explaining how many fans are “still sad we didn’t get Helia. She was supposed to be a halfling bard werewolf. Maybe in the enhanced edition she’ll be added back?” Helia was a brief addition in Early Access but was quickly removed and hasn’t been seen since. It’s clear plenty of the community are searching for a different raced Companion, with the primary focus being on smaller races. In fact, according to many veteran players: “we’ve been clamoring for a shorty companion all through EA and mentioned exactly the same thing.” So it’s clear this is a point of frustration that’s been happening for a while. Who knows, a new Companion could be added in a Patch, but nothing’s been confirmed yet.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans call for changes to AC after “missed opportunity” – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans call for changes to AC after “missed opportunity” Larian StudiosA series of Baldur’s Gate 3 players have sparked a substantial debate surrounding a “missed opportunity” involving characters’ AC in battle. A game as large as Baldur’s Gate 3 can be tricky to manage. Many players find themselves diving deep into the lore and loving the Dungeons & Dragons mechanics placed inside a gripping RPG. However, attempting to put a world as extensive as D&D into a game as impressive as Baldur’s Gate 3 will often lead to a few ideas that have to be left on the cutting room floor. Alternatively, it can lead to missed opportunities, which the community has been eagerly suggesting, especially after seeing their suggestions come to fruition in the third major patch. One player has highlighted a design idea, putting AC and battle animations at the forefront of the community’s mind. Baldur’s Gate 3 players debate over “missed opportunity” in battle Posting onto Reddit, one Baldur’s Gate 3 user explained how they “wish AC wasn’t just dodging.” They went on to explain how, during a BG3 battle, when an attack doesn’t hit, the player simply dodges the damage. While that can work well for quicker classes and characters like a Rogue or Monk, the style of dodging attacks doesn’t always work, especially when a player has a shield or heavy armor. In Dungeons & Dragons, the DM can explain why an attack didn’t hit, stating how it hit the armor but didn’t damage the person, or that they parried it with their shield, spell, or weapon. However, that can get complicated with tricky mechanics, maths, and more. The poster highlighted how, “In a video game, all [those] systems and math are done automatically, negating the need for such a simplified AC system” in Baldur’s Gate 3, labeling the constant use of dodge “weird.” They even suggested some variety in the animations, using the idea of raising a shield, simply taking on the attack and your armor protecting you, parrying with a spell or weapon, and more. Those suggestions came in the form of wondering if, “Depending on what’s equipped at the time and the type of attack, a different animation could play.” After posting, the idea quickly took off, with many considering it a “missed opportunity” and explaining that “you can totally represent how an attack fails depending on by how much the roll was short.” Perhaps suggesting an algorithm for the devs to follow. However, others thought this was likely an idea Larian had already thought of, explaining that they “feel like this is one of those ‘obvious’ [ideas] they probably thought of internally but decided to cut/ just give everyone a generic dodge just because of dev time and prioritizing. BUT yeah given more time we might get these suggestions though, it would just look really cool, and add to class flavor in the game.” While the community is certainly split regarding whether the idea is great or a little unnecessary, most fans’ thoughts echo one user’s comment: “Imagine just hearing the sound of a hit clanking off your heavy armor as a not hit and gives a satisfying 0 dmg number. Larian please make it happen.” Currently, there’s no word regarding this idea’s implication into the game, but if patch three is anything to go by, Larian could be taking it to mind in future updates.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans beg for the inclusion of Bing Bong after VA D&D session – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans beg for the inclusion of Bing Bong after VA D&D session Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 fans won’t be satisfied until Larian Studios brings Bing Bong to the game. The lovable imp captured players’ hearts during a D&D session with the game’s voice actors. Baldur’s Gate 3 fans are a passionate bunch and they’re more than willing to go after what they want. Whether that’s through official channels by petitioning Larian for the newly available appearance change mechanic or via player-created mods that change Half-Orc genitalia. They’ve even delved into the esoteric by attempting to will a Baldur’s Gate 3 Critical Role D&D one-shot starring the game’s voice actors into existence. It kind of worked too. Granted their D&D session was provided by the good folks at High Rollers, but still, it’s impressive. Of course, now that they have that wish out of the way, the High Rollers’ D&D one-shot has provided something new to ask for. A fan-favourite character named Bing Bong who appeared in the session is the latest demand from Baldur’s Gate 3 players. Bing Bong was introduced to the cast as a juvenile imp who ran a shop called the Adventurers Mart. So named because he would mimic a bell as customers entered the shop. He caused some division between Shadowheart (Jennifer English) who was immediately taken with the little scamp, and Lae’zel (Devora Wilde) who found the idea of an extra companion intolerable. “We can barely manage the others, let alone an imp baby,” Lae’zel complained. “He might be helpful,” Shadowheart retorted, resolving to keep the imp. While fans and Shadowheart loved the bowtie-clad imp, he met his untimely demise at the hands of Lae’zel who set him on fire to use as an improvised weapon. She was immediately rewarded for the betrayal with a knife to the back from Baldur’s Gate 3’s narrator Amelia Tyler. Since the one-shot, players have been campaigning for the inclusion of Bing Bong with fan art and well-structured requests. Larian seems to be aware of the fervor surrounding the character and even they have Bing Bong on the brain. Larian has a history of listening to the Baldur’s Gate 3 playerbase so fans of the game are hopeful for the campaign. Whether or not Larian decides to add Bing Bong to the game is still up in the air though. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on the continuation of the Bing Bong saga as it happens. Baldur’s Gate 3 fans baffled as players make huge mistake in game’s hardest mode – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans baffled as players make huge mistake in game’s hardest mode Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players are shocked that people keep making the same mistake in Honor Mode, trying out brand-new tactics and classes in the most difficult version of the game. Baldur’s Gate 3 has been wildly successful since its release beyond the developer’s initial hopes, thanks to the vast amount of invigorating content. The developers, Larian Studios, included multiple well-fleshed-out classes in the game, and the nearly infinite amount of strategies, builds, and choices allows players to make the journey their own. Months after the game’s initial release, Larian Studios included a harder difficulty mode to the game, called “Honor Mode,” and the Baldur’s Gate 3 community can’t understand why new players try new strategies they’ve never used before in the hardest version of the game. Baldur’s Gate 3 players can’t believe Honor Mode “Lunatics” In a December 22 Reddit post, one Baldur’s Gate 3 player shared their frustrations as they saw others complain after getting decimated in Honor mode because they were trying brand-new tactics and classes. “Honor mode isn’t for trying new things ya lunatics,” they said. Some players agreed with the original post, feeling that Honor Mode difficulty is the “pinnacle” of Baldur’s Gate 3 and deserves to be treated with caution and respect. “Ironman modes are the pinnacle of gaming. Not for bragging rights or videos showcasing your minmax strategies, but for the rush you feel going into the unknown while risking everything you’ve accomplished thus far,” one said. But others felt that the “rush” and enjoyment of Honor mode came from maximizing risk and trying to conquer the challenge in the craziest way possible. “It absolutely is for trying a 30%+ wild magic surge chance mod, what are you talking about. It’s the adrenaline rush, it’s inescapable. Honor mode is the best time to f**k around and find out,” a player joked. “Honor mode IS the best for trying things, if I mess up in tactician I can just press f8 and play a perfect scenario, honor mode is for rolling with the punches,” another agreed. Players have been enjoying Baldur’s Gate 3, regardless of how they’ve chosen to tackle it, and this was shown at the game awards where it won Game Awards 2023 Game of the Year.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans are thirsting over “human” version of Karlach – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans are thirsting over “human” version of Karlach Larian StudiosThe Baldur’s Gate 3 community is down bad for some edited images showing Karlach as a human. Since Baldur’s Gate 3 released last year, Karlach has become one of the fanbase’s favorite characters, both for personality and looks. She has been the target of plenty of fan art and discussions as players talk about their favorite things about her. Now, the fans are thirsting for her even more as someone has shared an image of a “human” Karlach. Baldur’s Gate 3 players really into “human” Karlach The images were shared on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, where the post was simply titled: “Human Karlach.” And the image is just that: Karlach looking like a human, rather than the usual red, devil-like features that she has. In the thread, the poster explains: “So, I saw an opinion that Karlach’s face looks good only because she’s a tiefling, and, supposedly, she wouldn’t be attractive as a human. So I decided to check it out using my Photoshop skills. I don’t understand how people can say this face isn’t beautiful…” The community is loving this and agreeing, even if it is changing up their favorite Tiefling companion, with one user saying: “She’s already gorgeous as a punk demon woman. As a human… she’s still is gorgeous as a punk human woman.” The rest of the comments are also saying how beautiful they think she is: “I would die for her and her 80’s metal band.” There are plenty of defensive comments, as well, as many Baldur’s Gate 3 players can’t imagine how anyone would find Karlach to not be attractive. As one person says, “Anybody who thinks Karlach’s unattractive is a legitimate crazy person. Both her release appearance, and her data-mined appearance, are absolutely gorgeous.” It’s clear that the fanbase does not mess around with Karlach, and loves her in any variation.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans are only just realizing how old Shadowheart is – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans are only just realizing how old Shadowheart is Larian StudiosThe true age of Shadowheart has been revealed and it’s blowing the minds of Baldur’s Gate 3 players. Fantasy races can be a little misleading in games like Baldur’s Gate 3. After all, not all races have the same lifespan as humans, and many will end up maturing at different times of their lives, which can be a bit confusing, especially when working out what age they actually are. This is entirely the case for players’ favorite companion, Shadowheart who has blown the minds of tons of Baldur’s Gate 3 players after a conversation revealed how old she actually is. Shadowheart is much older than most Baldur’s Gate 3 players thought Sharing an image of a recent conversation with Shadowheart on Reddit, one user realized that Shadowheart is much older than they expected. The conversation read: “These are all about me…forty years of my life, documented like I was some sort of specimen.” Coming as quite a surprise to many, it became clear that Shadowheart has to be over 40 years old. While it shocked many, with countless Baldur’s Gate 3 players assuming she was in her 20s, many were quick to explain how this was possible, especially with her looking so young. “Half-elf young adult range is 20-40, so she’s just getting to the mature range” explained one user, revealing that she’s actually just as young as many would expect if looking at half-elf terms. In fact, according to Dungeons & Dragons, the average lifespan of a half-elf is around 180 years, making her extremely young for her race. One user even explained that it’s likely Shadowheart is much older than 40, explaining that “She’s actually closer to 50. She was 9 when the thing happened, and then she spent 40 years ‘documented like a specimen’. She’s a half-elf, so she’s going to age much more slowly than humans. “ Fantasy ages can be a little misleading, and Shadowheart is far from the oldest Companion in the game, but it’s still surprising to see how long she’s been a member of Shar’s worshippers.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans are freaking out over plain hair Shadowheart mod – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans are freaking out over plain hair Shadowheart mod Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players are falling right back in love with Shadowheart after seeing her with a plain-haired mod. For many, Baldur’s Gate 3 is almost a perfect game, with the title receiving tons of praise and constant regular patches fixing any funny or annoying, and adding in highly requested features like the ability to change your hair through the Magic Mirror. While the storyline is touching, and the world is expansive, some of the most beloved features are both the companions and the character creation. After all, many players spend hours creating the perfect character and romancing their ideal companion. So, when players use mods to slightly alter the design of a beloved companion, it’s only understandable that the community would freak out, and fall right back in love with everyone’s favorite cleric. This plain hair Shadowheart has Baldur’s Gate 3 players falling back in love Sharing the mod on Reddit, one user revealed an image of Shadowheart with plain hair, showing her repping a simple dark brown longer cut. Naturally, after sharing the image, the post quickly went viral, with over 3k upvotes and hundreds of comments, with most of them simping over Shadowheart all over again. “She is so gorgeous” expressed one user, while another shared how “Shadowheart looks so much better without her default bangs” and that this mod is quite an improvement, despite the notion that many players think she’s stunning with her normal design. One user explained how “she looks like a shipwrecked young girl with amnesia that you found on a beach. Which isn’t far from what we got in the game, come to think of it” perhaps suggesting this feels a little more true to form. Although it’s still a fantasy game at heart, and that wouldn’t be the case without some fancy hairstyles. If you want to try out the plain-haired Shadowheart mod, you can do so here and here.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans are creating companions in Dragons Dogma 2 – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans are creating companions in Dragons Dogma 2 Larian StudiosThe Dragons Dogma 2 character creator is so detailed that many players are taking inspiration from an equally as expansive game to turn the Baldur’s Gate 3 companions into playable characters in the upcoming RPG. If there’s one thing that Baldur’s Gate 3 and Dragons Dogma 2 seem to share, it’s expansive character creation. No matter the style of character you’re looking to design, players are able to embody anyone the choose, whether it’s a replica of themselves, a rather cursed inspiration, or someone they’ve fallen in love with in other games. Ultimately, fans’ creativity knows no bounds and players are using the inspiration from Baldur’s Gate 3 to craft some pretty uncanny companion creations. Baldur’s Gate 3’s Lae’zel has been created in Dragons Dogma 2 Sharing their creation on Reddit, one user revealed their Lae’zel-inspired character. However, inspired feels a little too loose considering just how close to the real design this player actually got – tattoos, nose, and all. Shortly after posting, both Baldur’s Gate 3 and Dragons Dogma 2 players took to the comments to show their love for the design and the character creation as a whole. “I heard that game’s character creator was good but damn. This character would be recognized as Lae’zel anywhere without anything being said” commented one fan. The character creation certainly looks detailed, which was always a key selling point for BG3, and will likely be one for Dragons Dogma 2. Another player complimented the poster, adding “Dude this actually looks incredible,” while another stated “It is INSANE how well you can make Lae’zel in that game. What a wild character creator.” The attention to detail is extremely impressive and the poster added that they will soon be creating Shdowheart and Minthara, so many can assume more companions are on their way. With a character creation this detailed, many may be seeing some interesting gaming crossovers in Dragons Dogma 2.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans already smitten by new villain: “I can fix her” – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans already smitten by new villain: “I can fix her” Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 devs just revealed a new antagonist set to impede the players and fans are unable to contain their thirst. Baldur’s Gate 3 developers Larian Studios and their fans are a special breed of deviants it seems. We’re already familiar with bear-sexgate but we weren’t prepared for the rise of the mommy kink. A recently announced villain for the massive RPG has had fans come out in droves requesting that she step on them. Larian Studios introduced players to Orin the Red via a short video featuring her voice and mo-cap actor Maggie Robertson. Users in the comments fell immediately in love with Orin with hundreds making the same claim: “I can fix her.” Maggie Robertson’s most famous portrayal is of course Resident Evil Village’s Lady Dimitrescu. It would appear she has been typecast for roles as tall, domineering psychopaths the internet can’t help but have a crush on. Robertson looks to have put a great deal of care into her performance and despite her villainous nature, Orin oozes charisma. Robertson describes her character initially as “affectionately unhinged”. The character is a devious shapeshifter who’s set to cause all kinds of trouble for players in Baldur’s Gate 3. “You don’t know when she’s going to pop up, you don’t know in what form she’s going to be,” explained Robertson. In between various declarations of love and promises of undying devotion to Orin, fans in the comments poured heapings of praise on Robertson’s performance. “She deserves to be up there with the other great voice actors,” one user said. “So glad you brought her on board Larian.” Larian took notice of the fans’ reaction to Orin and tried to temper their feelings for her in a Tweet. “No, you can’t fix her,” they said before baiting players to try. Baldur’s Gate 3 fanfic writers have a favorite companion and it’s not even close – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fanfic writers have a favorite companion and it’s not even close Larian StudiosThe majority of all fan fiction about Baldur’s Gate 3 focuses on just one of the companions in the game, despite them all being relatively popular. One of the most remarkable things Baldur’s Gate managed to achieve was juggling the stories and character arcs of several vastly different personalities throughout its three-act narrative. No matter who your favorite companion is, there’s a decent chance that any one of the party members you pick up along the way could be someone else’s favorite. Unless it’s Halsin. Still, it looks like that broad appeal hasn’t carried over to the fanfiction community, because half of all the stories written about Baldur’s Gate feature one very special vampire. Astarion features in half of all Baldur’s Gate fanfiction One person on the official Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit crunched the numbers and discovered that out of all 6108 Baldur’s Gate fanfics on the popular site Archive of Our Own, 2815 of them featured Astarion, making him present in just under 50% of the stories. Maybe there’s just something about the way he talks, or something about writers and vampires that brings them back to the good old days of Twilight fanfiction, but Astarion takes the top spot among the writing community for Baldur’s Gate. And to be fair, we can’t see someone being as dedicated about Halsin. As one player sarcastically put it: ” I’m surprised to see the dramatic bi vampire tops the lists.” Strangely, this trend doesn’t map onto the actual game itself, as Larian Studios have confirmed that the most romanced characters in the game are Gale and Shadowheart. Maybe all the vampire lovers are too busy writing Astarion x OC fan fiction to actually play the game. Baldur’s Gate 3 fanbase is surprisingly thirsty for water monsters – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fanbase is surprisingly thirsty for water monsters Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players are spoiled for choice when it comes to romance, but there’s one surprising monster type that they’re lusting after – to the point that Larian responded to their desire. Along with most of the party members, Baldur’s Gate 3 lets you romance all kinds of creatures. This includes a squid-headed Mind Flayer, Drow elf twins, and evil Devils from the Nine Hells. Let’s not forget that you can even romance a Druid in bear form. But what about the rest of the entries in the D&D Monster Manual? The thirst of the fanbase knows no bounds, as pointed out on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit, referring to an incident when the official Larian Twitter/X account responded to a request to romance a Water Elemental. Baldur’s Gate 3 fans are thirsty for the Water Elementals “Water elementals make the best thirst traps,” one user joked, while another said, “The way Larian responded hilariously highlights the absurdity of it, but at the same time, they have only themselves to blame for it lmao.” “All fanbases are horny, because they are made up of people. I mean, rule 34 is a thing for a reason, thanks to thirsty humans,” one user summarized, “And the more popular the game, the higher change you’re going to get people posting things like that – just out of sheer probability due to a large fanbase.” One Pokemon player decided to burn all of our brains with a single comment. “It’s the Vaporeon thing all over again.” Naturally, the kinds of comments you’d expect were made. “Just add jello powder and you got yourself a slime gf,” one user wrote, while another personally (hopefully) joked, “Drown me daddy.” D&D beat Baldur’s Gate 3 in the Elemental romance department Baldur’s Gate 3 might seem like it has far more risque content than D&D, but in this case, the tabletop game has already beaten Larian at its own game. See, in D&D, it’s somehow possible for humans to breed with all four elementals. We know this because there’s a half-elemental race in the older editions with some pretty OP powers, while the current edition has the Genasi, which are connected to the elemental planes. (How someone breeds with an Earth or Fire Elemental is probably best left to the imagination or never thought about at all.) Poor Larian Studios created a monster with its fanbase and it will be dealing with comments about dating creatures for years to come. But at least the upcoming Baldur’s Gate 3 modding tools should give people the tools to romance a giant blob of water.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fan uncovers Sorcerous Sundries vault secret after 500 hours – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fan uncovers Sorcerous Sundries vault secret after 500 hours Larian StudiosOne of the best things about Baldur’s Gate 3 is the fact that you can be over 500 hours in and still discover new solutions to puzzles that previously felt impossible. This is exactly what happened to one eager fan who shared a simple solution to the Sorcerous Sundries vault lock. Baldur’s Gate 3 is filled with hundreds of hours of content. Not only is the main storyline incredibly long, but the sidequests, secrets, and hidden elements all create a fantastically immersive and lengthy experience that perfectly complements that story. While that certainly increases the game’s replayability, it also means fans can be hundreds of hours into the game and only just discover something new. This player was 500 hours into Baldur’s Gate 3 and has now shared their simple solution to opening the Sorcerous Sundries vault, and it’s a wonder we didn’t spot it before. Baldur’s Gate 3 player uses a key companion to uncover Sorcerous Sundries vault secret Sharing their discovery on Reddit, one user explained how they opened the Sorcerous Sundries vault without even picking the lock. They explained how “you don’t have to do the bulls**t door puzzle in Sorcerous Sundries’ vault if you’re a wizard, cause they’ll open if you use Knock. Yep, that spell that says it only opens common locks? It opens the vault doors, while rogue lockpicks can’t. How did I learn? This time I took Gale with me.” While Gale isn’t the most popular companion in the game, he’s once again proven his usefulness and the power of a well-placed spell, even if this lock seems far from common. The comments were pretty split, with players either expressing how much they love the game’s detail: “I love how much pretty damn detailed stuff there is in this game that only 0.0001% of players will ever experience. They really thought of everything” and sharing their own hidden details they discovered hours into the game. With this piece of information, it’s likely many players will be warming up to Gale and taking him on a journey to the magical store, who knows, you may just get some extremely useful loot inside that vault. Let’s just hope it’s not any more food items.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fan turns the Forgotten Realms’ best boys into stunning figures – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fan turns the Forgotten Realms’ best boys into stunning figures DexertoBaldur’s Gate 3 is filled with tons of lovable companions and unforgettable NPCs. That said, few are as adorable and highly regarded as the Forgotten Realms’ best boys, Scratch and the Owlbear Cub – and now they’ve been expertly brought to life. The Baldur’s Gate 3 community knows no bounds when it comes to creativity, with thousands of players creating stunning cosplays of their favorite companions, highlighting the similarities between their own pups and Scratch, and even creating their very own figure of the game’s impressive roster. After all, with Baldur’s Gate 3 being a D&D game, it’s only right to see players looking to craft their favorite characters into adorable minis or figures. This is exactly what one player created by turning the best boys – Scratch and the Owlbear cub – into beautiful figures, and the community was instantly obsessed. “Major kudos on that paint job. It is phenomenal,” commented one player, while others were quick to label it “amazing” and complement the “Excellent paintwork.” Scratch and the adorable Owlbear cub are easily some of the most adorable and well-loved characters in Baldur’s Gate 3, and for placeb021 to paint them so expertly has perfectly brought them to life in a way many have never seen. The figures themselves are resin prints, from an Anycubic photon M3 Premium 3D Printer, as is the standard for most miniature 3D prints. However, the actual design and sculpts were revealed to be made by Bulkamancer and can be obtained on their Patreon, although placeb021 did print and paint them. The Baldur’s Gate 3 community’s creativity knows no bounds, and whether it’s adding some insane detail to Scratches collar on a figure, or getting the perfect lighting for your Infernal Heart in your Karlach cosplay, there’s always something amazing being created by the game’s fans.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fan showcases all vases with loot – so you can stop checking them all – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fan showcases all vases with loot – so you can stop checking them all Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3’s vases have become a meme at this point, with players constantly going against their better judgement to check every single container. Finally, this can be over, thanks to a fan diligently listing every vase with loot, so you can stop spending hours checking pointless containers. If there’s one thing Baldur’s Gate 3 fans, magpies, and D&D players all have in common it’s their desire for loot and shiny things. Sure, the main storyline and companion quests are fun, but the majority of players take hours to get through those elements because they’re more interested in farming coins to add to their hoard. Luckily, that endless vase searching can finally come to a close thanks to a dedicated player sharing a Reddit post showing every vase with loot in Baldur’s Gate 3. It’s worth noting, as the poster explains, “Yes, I looted every vase in the entire game. Yes, I probably missed some. There are, after all, a lot of vases. But to the best of my knowledge, here’s the complete list.” There are so many containers in the game, that it’s viable the player missed a few, but this will certainly make any collector’s life a lot easier. In true Baldur’s Gate 3 fashion, many took to the comments to refuse to change: “You have confirmed that I must check every vase, thank you” shared one fan. Another added, “I appreciate this a ton, but you did miss two key things. What if, in my playthrough, there is like 3 gold that spawns in one of the other vases? And what if you missed one? And that one has 3 gold?” Thankfully, the poster explained that they’re still “searching the same damned vases on my new run even though I swore I wasn’t going to,” so you’re far from alone if this has only made you want to search more. Naturally, many fans praised the poster, explaining that they “deserve a medal and a hug” or that they’re “doing the gods’ work.” It seems their work is far from over, as countless commenters requested a new version of the same post: “This is the commitment we need… Next… bags, boxes, bookshelves and bodies… you got this dude.” Whether the poster goes through this amount of effort and time to deal with the other containers is yet to be seen, but one thing’s clear – Baldur’s Gate 3 players will never stop searching vases, even if all the full ones are right in front of them.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fan regains confidence from “hot” companion – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fan regains confidence from “hot” companion Larian StudiosEveryone’s favorite vampire from Baldur’s Gate 3 is inspiring other curly-haired silver foxes to embrace their unique ‘do. Plenty of us have video characters that we closely identify or are inspired by. Whether you seek to emulate their heroic actions or just want to look as cool as they do, a part of them follows you into your real life. Baldur’s Gate 3 is filled with figures like this. Both the game’s companions and quest NPCs have complex personalities and gorgeous character designs. Like, who doesn’t want to be Shadowheart when they grow up? Sometimes video game characters wind up affirming traits we already have. One Baldur’s Gate 3 player took to Reddit to share their example of this. For them, the Origin character, Astarion served as a positive representation of a character with curls and grey/white hair. The user, who is in their fifties, explained that due to social stigma around the supposedly “untidy” look of curly hair, they had spent their life with their hair tied back to minimize the texture. Additionally, they felt pressure to tend to their greying hair using dye, as they had been instilled with the belief that “nobody thinks white/grey looks good”. Baldur’s Gate 3 fan learns to love their locks thanks to one “wildly attractive” character Thankfully, the pressure to perform these grooming practices came to an abrupt end for them after witnessing the community-wide thirst for Astarion. The poster explained their confidence was helped by seeing “hordes of horny people” lust after the character not despite, but because of, his distinctive curly white/grey mane. As another user pointed out, Astarion is just one part of an overarching curly hair renaissance or “curleissance” happening in popular culture. Embracing ringlets like Astarion’s is the just tip of the iceberg when it comes to tackling the issue of texturism. Still, stories like this show that the representation offered by Baldur’s Gate 3 is a valuable step in the right direction. Of course, Astarion’s locks aren’t just supernaturally silver; he shows other signs of aging too. As one commenter put it, “The sexiest characters in this game imo have wrinkles and sun spots and greying hair and that is so cool”. Users decried ‘de-ageing’ mods that seek to remove these details, with one even referring to them “blasphemy”. Who knew fans being so down-bad could make someone feel so good?

Baldur’s Gate 3 player outsmarts Honor Mode with an unexpected “spell” – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 player outsmarts Honor Mode with an unexpected “spell” Baldur’s Gate 3/DexertoThe Baldur’s Gate 3 community was split after one player revealed a crafty, off-the-spellbook trick to survive Honor Mode. Honor Mode is known for its brutal difficulty, where a single mistake – or game-breaking bug – can erase hours of gameplay. One player claimed there’s a game-changing spell to save your run in Honor Mode: Taskkiller Torsion. If the name doesn’t sound familiar – it’s because it’s a fan-made cheeky nod to the PC’s Task Manager. The Baldur’s Gate 3 player’s Reddit post featured a screenshot with a full hotbar of spells, prominently displaying the Task Manager icon. The trick is to use Task Manager to close the game just before death to avoid a disastrous wipe. While some players have criticized this tactic, saying, “Just play normal mode if you have to Task Manager cheat,” others have defended it. They argue that Honor Mode presents unique challenges, like facing bosses with Legendary Actions that aren’t available on other difficulty levels. Another player warned that even this method isn’t foolproof: “I did this, but the game knew and I didn’t get the achievement.” So, while it might save you from a dire situation, it won’t necessarily help you achieve Honor Mode bragging rights. For purists looking for an in-game solution, there’s another strategy. One player suggested using the Monk’s Step of the Wind ability to cheese nearly any fight. However, this tactic won’t work against the final battle with Myrkul. Whether you’re a hardcore Honor Mode fan or a casual player, Baldur’s Gate 3 keeps growing after its first anniversary. And with Patch 7 introducing a grim new ending for evil playthroughs when it releases in September, there’s never been a better time to dive back into the Forgotten Realms.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fan learns the hard way not to loot corpses in front of traders – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fan learns the hard way not to loot corpses in front of traders DexertoWhile most Baldur’s Gate 3 players probably don’t think twice about looting corpses after a fight, some NPCs won’t take too kindly to it – a lesson one player learned the hard way. In a post on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, one fan explained how Quartermaster Talli, a humble trader from the Last Light Inn, decided to sabotage the mission to defeat Ketheric Thorm. It started with the first wave of combat leaving behind both enemy and ally corpses. The player looted all the corpses, even dead allies, but Talli noticed and thought of their deed as shameful. This led to the player getting thrown into Moonrise Tower Prison, which they weren’t very happy about. The odd thing about this situation is that Ketheric Thorm controls the Tower at this point, so Talli being able to send the player here doesn’t make much sense. Unfortunately, speaking to the trader who betrayed them after the incident doesn’t yield any answers. After Talli asked what they needed from her, the player angrily wrote, “what I need [Talli] is NOT TO BE IN PRISON.” The majority of the replies warned the original poster not to loot the Harpers’ corpses, as Quartermaster Talli was also a Harper. Seeing someone loot the body of your ally who just perished certainly isn’t something to take lightly. Although the original poster knew Talli was a Harper, they didn’t think she would turn on them so fast. A reply reminded them that “now you know red = stealing and gets you in trouble.” Interestingly, the player posted an update revealing they got thrown in a second time after reloading an old save and only looting enemy corpses. It seems as though the Harpers dislike looting any bodies after death. The one good thing that came from this scenario was the player receiving the Escapologist Achievement, which is awarded to players who break out of jail after being arrested. Only 29.6% of players on Steam have received this Achievement.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fan gives key reason why you should raid the Druid Grove – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fan gives key reason why you should raid the Druid Grove Larian StudiosOne Baldur’s Gate 3 fan is pleading the case for raiding the Druid Grove in Act 1, and it’s hard to not agree with their reasoning. The Druid Grove choice is one many are familiar with. Depending on the way they go about Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3, some players will be asked to make a decision, side with an optional companion Minthara and destroy the Druid Grove, or side with the Druids and take down Minthara. Usually, players will opt to save the Grove, since there are tons of Druids and innocent Tieflings camping inside. However, one player has given a few key reasons why fans should think twice before opting to take down Minthara. One Baldur’s Gate 3 fan proves why raiding the Druid Grove is a smart choice Sharing their reasoning on Reddit, one user explained that, while choosing the dark urge playthrough,m they attempted to make neutral decisions, without letting emotion get in the way. Such a playthrough showed them how beneficial raiding the Druid Grove is for players. To start with, they explained how they “Followed the Creche storyline with Laezel because I’m not going into a goblin camp on the off chance this druid Halsin is alive and she seems certain they have cure but got told the only cure is death by Voss at the Patrol.” Then they reasoned that their “only real choice is to look for Halsin to see if he was still alive and once you find him he tells you you need to get to moonrise towers. Others like Roah Moonglow also hint that the absolutists are gathering there. Unless you know you are super powerful there would be no way you’d agree to assassinate 3 leaders and wipe out an entire camp of goblins. And at this point in the story you are without memories and Level 4ish so I tell Halsin I can’t help him but start taking the underdark path as he recommends.” After exploring the Underdark, they found that the route gets you no closer to Moonrise and is tricky to under because of the Shadow Curse. Which prompts the player to find Nere, who has Moon Lanterns. They wait for Nere to die and find his lantern to be broken. Then, after speaking to him, he explains that MInthara can grant them safe passage. So, they head back to Minthara who in turn gets the player to raid the grove. “Obviously from a gameplay standpoint, I have options, but from a RP standpoint, I don’t really have a choice other than brave the shadowlands by myself. So Drow lady it is” the player went on to explain. Stating that the only reason players don’t raid the Druid Grove is because of feeling when it’s actually one of the safest paths. Many agreed with the player, stating how they “think there’s plenty of reason to raid the grove under Kagha’s leadership. I could see it being justified by some points of view. The only problem is there’s not really a justification for killing the tieflings. So I kind of wish you could choose to spare them”, posing a key element of difficulty and unnecessary violence. Nevertheless, the post has certainly convinced many players to try it out, with plenty of Baldur’s Gate 3 fans explaining how “It honestly makes a lot of sense, I think you just gave me the motivation to do a neutral/evil run.” Naturally, each playthrough and character choice is entirely personal, so it’s up to you which you choose – but if ease of exploration and passage to Act 2 is anything, then the choice is clear.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fan explains why Knock is the best spell – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fan explains why Knock is the best spell Larian StudiosWhile Baldur’s Gate 3 has many useful spells to choose from, one player is arguing that an underrated option is the best after skipping a major Act 2 challenge with Knock. Baldur’s Gate 3 gives players plenty of spell options from Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition. Certain spells are just as useful in Baldur’s Gate 3 as they are in D&D, such as the ever-powerful – and destructive – Fireball. Others like Misty Step are arguably more helpful here than they are in the tabletop game. One spell that falls into the latter category is Knock, which one player is calling the best in the game after using it to skip a particularly tricky section of Act 2. Note, spoilers for Baldur’s Gate 3 Act 2 to follow. Knock allows players to skip a major Act 2 challenge in Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit user shitfacedgoblin explained how much Knock helped them out during a co-op playthrough with their girlfriend. Upon reaching the Gaunlet of Shar, the duo was struggling to find the trials and not strong enough to fight. The player decided to try using Knock on the final door, seeing it had a 100% success rate. To their surprise, the door actually opened, allowing them to proceed with the game without completing most of the trials – all for the measly cost of a second-level spell slot. Knock is a pretty versatile spell. It allows the caster to open anything being held by a “mundane lock,” making it usable on most doors and chests. A rogue can pretty easily accomplish the same with Thieves’ Tools and a good Sleight of Hand modifier, but parties without one really benefit from Knock. As some have pointed out in the comments, brute force like a barbarian’s hammer or casting Fireball can also break down doors. Still, there are some doors that can’t be opened this way that Knock can open. There are plenty of compelling arguments for why different spells are the best or most useful in Baldur’s Gate 3. Knock may not be the most obvious candidate, but the fact a spell many would overlook can actually be used to get around a major challenge is yet another example of how much freedom Baldur’s Gate 3 allows. Baldur’s Gate 3 fan explains hilarious reason why Orin regrets kidnapping Gale – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fan explains hilarious reason why Orin regrets kidnapping Gale Larian StudiosWhen placed in a tough spot with Orin, Baldur’s Gate 3 players believe that Gale’s greatest weaknesses could wind up being his greatest strengths. Gale, canonically, is extremely well-read and maybe a little too proud of it. As a result, he’s also incredibly verbose. While die-hard Gale defenders embrace his “practiced tongue”, his relentless patter can really grate on you if loquacious travel companions are not your thing. In fact, it’s a well-established joke in the Baldur’s Gate 3 community that Gale can be pretty annoying at times. Of course, a far more significant red flag of Gale’s is his whole ‘Netherese jack-in-the-box’ situation. When you first recruit him to your camp, he’ll start to disclose details of the volatile orb of powerful magic housed within his chest. He’ll also humbly request that you let him munch some of your magic trinkets to prevent said orb from blowing up the entire Sword Coast. While these traits may prevent Gale from topping ‘favorite companion’ lists, Baldur’s Gate 3 players argue that these perceived failings could also work in his favor. Baldur’s Gate 3’s Gale is too annoying to kidnap, say fans After Gale was kidnapped by Orin their playthrough, a member of r/BaldursGate3 shared their musings on the kinds of torture that went down in the Temple of Bhaal — except it wasn’t Orin who was inflicting the pain. Given his unique condition, the player believed that Gale would’ve relentlessly pestered his captor until she gave him a magic-infused snack. It’s not just his hunger for boots that makes it difficult to play warden for an imprisoned Gale, as one player put it, he “is the type of hostage that would be returned within a day because he simply wouldn’t shut up.” Fans also joked that the Waterdhavian’s need to wax poetic about anything and everything makes it essential for Orin to know how to cast Silence or just have access to some Sovereign Glue to keep him quiet. What’s more, Gale’s chatting doesn’t let up even after he dies. In fact, should Orin the Red choose to kill Gale, she would prompt a bizarre scenario where she has to navigate his convoluted resurrection ritual. Remember to unthread the purple thread counter-clockwise, Orin!

Baldur’s Gate 3 fan discovers key surprise after 300 hours in Act 1 – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 fan discovers key surprise after 300 hours in Act 1 Larian StudiosOne Baldur’s Gate 3 player was pleasantly surprised to find a brilliant example of developer foresight in Act 1 after over 300 hours of gameplay. Baldur’s Gate 3 is still managing to surprise and impress players, even those who have put hundreds of hours into the game. Some of the things players are finding are particularly impressive, showing a level of foresight from developer Larian Studios that goes above and beyond expectations. A great example of this was recently shared by a player who was pleasantly surprised to still find something new in Act 1 after about 300 hours of gameplay. Baldur’s Gate 3 player finds consequence to selling items to potential enemies Reddit user MKGSonic123 shared their discovery in a post titled “300 hours in and Act 1 still surprises me.” As they explain, after putting hundreds of hours into Baldur’s Gate 3’s first section, they learned something interesting about one of the merchants in the Druid Grove. “Since i’ve done this act a lot, i’ve been selling basket of equipment loot so i can save myself the time of selling all my wares for the millionth time,” they explained. “Come the raid on the grove, who do i find with a damn scorching ray of radiance, and psychic blast?” It’s an impressive amount of foresight on Larian’s part and something that makes perfect sense. Of course the Druids, when under attack, would want to use the best gear at their disposal to defend the Grove. “Who would’ve thought larian would plan ahead for you selling strong items to the druids, and to have them actually use them if you turn on them!” the player remarked. Since Baldur’s Gate 3’s launch, players have been finding some brilliant things in the game, and with new content like Patch 5’s epilogue expanding the massive RPG even further, fans are sure to uncover even more as they put hundreds of additional hours into the game. Baldur’s Gate 3’s Faerun continent should have collapsed a long time ago – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3’s Faerun continent should have collapsed a long time ago Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players believe that with everything its Faerun setting has endured, the continent should’ve collapsed long ago. In BG3, players spend much of their time traversing across the continent of Faerun. The magical setting plays host to more than its fair share of stunning locales, but calamitous events regularly plague them. As such, one player can’t help but wonder how Faerun’s still standing. It should’ve “collapsed a long time ago,” they argued in an increasingly popular Reddit post. The Redditor shared the following thought, “I am not familiar with the lore but considering all the things you get to know in the game, how is that continent still settled and thriving?” World-ending cults, hell spawns who wreak havoc with abandon, and free-roaming dragons suggest Faerun should be avoided at all costs. Trade networks and civilized society don’t seem to make sense here as a result. It’s the same argument people often make about Gotham or Metropolis. However, some Baldur’s Gate 3 fans in the Reddit thread believe the adventures are what keep Faerun up and running. “It’s fine, adventurers save the day,” reads one comment that has even more upvotes than the original post. Another person remarked that the sheer number of adventurers especially helps in this regard. “Being an adventurer is almost common, very well paid, very high-risk job. There are usually a lot of guilds. You see a lot of young adventurers. Very few retired adventurers.” Others pointed out how Faerun is a small piece in the grander scheme because the rest of the world is so huge. “The world is absurdly big, the entire sword coast which the game takes place in is the size of El Salvador in the Americas. Practically so small that everywhere else won’t be affected.” Someone else mentioned that while players see constant streams of chaos, the outside world doesn’t get a whole lot of action. “There’s plenty of mundane farming villages where the most exciting thing to happen in recent memory was an especially large chicken egg.” Simply put, the argument seems to be that Baldur’s Gate 3’s Faerun has relatively easy-to-contain issues. As long as the outside world continues to thrive, this particular continent should be fine, too.

Baldur’s Gate 3 exploit sees players getting triple the experience from encounters – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 exploit sees players getting triple the experience from encounters Larian StudiosA Baldur’s Gate 3 exploit has been found that can see you getting triple experience during certain encounters. There are a lot of ways to build your character out in Baldur’s Gate 3. You can multi-class, or go down certain subcategories of of your class. As you do, you’ll learn different spells and abilities to help you find your play style. However, there’s one thing that’s universally true. In order to get those later game builds, you’re going to need to get experience to level up. Generally, you can get a decent amount just by playing the game and indulging in side quests. There are ways to increase your experience intake too. One YouTuber has found one that can massively improve your gains by up to three times the normal amount. This method is almost definitely considered an exploit though. While you won’t get in trouble for using it, it’s clear this isn’t meant to function like this, so might feel a little cheap if you want a purer run. How do you do the experience exploit? The exploit comes from YouTuber Proxy Gate Tactician. As part of a Baldur’s Gate 3 myth-busting video, he put to the test if you can double your experience by passing a dialogue check, and then going into combat after that. Generally, it doesn’t work. You’re supposed to get the same amount of experience from dialogue or combat, but not both. However, while testing, he found the exploit. Essentially, if you pass a dialogue check, you will get full XP. However, if you then save and reload, and then go into combat, you will receive the XP once more. However, you can triple this XP by passing a dialogue check, then saving, reloading, then knocking out the enemies, saving, and reloading, and then killing all the enemies. This is a decent amount of work. It will require some save-scumming, but if you’re at the point of using an exploit to get experience, you’re probably fine with that. It’s a surefire way to boost your experience gains and get to higher levels early on in the game. Use this information as you will. It’s a lot of hassle to mess around with saves, but if you want a boost, this is the way. That is at least until this is patched.

Baldur’s Gate 3 exploit lets you buy everything for 1 gold – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 exploit lets you buy everything for 1 gold Larian StudiosA Baldur’s Gate 3 player has found a way to buy out entire merchants for just one gold by exploiting a bug. Baldur’s Gate 3 players will encounter many merchants on their journeys across the Sword Coast. Each offers a different set of items, from basic healing potions and spell scrolls to rare weapons and armor. Obtaining some of the best or most helpful equipment to keep your party safe can get expensive, but fortunately for frugal adventurers, a Baldur’s Gate 3 player has found a bug that lets you buy a merchant’s entire inventory for just a single gold piece. Exploiting a Baldur’s Gate 3 bug lets you buy out a merchant’s entire stock Reddit user ImprintVector shared their useful discovery in a post on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit. To accomplish this, you’ll need to have some kind of container like a backpack or crate. Essentially, you need to sell the container, drag everything into it, then buy it back without leaving the trading screen. It seems the game only registers the price of the container itself without acknowledging everything inside of it. Patch 5 added the ability to sell and barter items in containers while trading, which opened the door for this kind of exploit. Interestingly, one commenter notes a similar exploit existed in Larian’s previous game, Divinity: Original Sin 2. The poster does note that they play on PC using the latest patch and without mods, so it’s not clear if this method will work on consoles. It also seems to be a bug that could be patched out in the future, so those who want to make the most of this exploit should do so soon. If you liked this, be sure to check out the rest of our Baldur’s Gate 3 coverage, which includes the latest news, guides, and much more.

Baldur’s Gate 3 experts reveal the one item you shouldn’t go without – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 experts reveal the one item you shouldn’t go without Larian StudiosWhether it’s a solid build, the best weapon, the right companions, or even the perfect armor, being prepared before you set off for your adventure is pivotal. Now fans are warning new players never to forget the usefulness of a good shield. It can be tricky to know everything you need to have before setting off on your Baldur’s Gate 3 adventure, but a trusty shield can often be forgotten about, especially by classes that don’t think they can wield it. However, one Baldur’s Gate 3 player shared the importance of the item, and experts descended to share all the reasons why a shield is your best friend in this expansive adventure game. “PSA: If you’re gonna go outside don’t forget a shield” shared the poster, explaining that “everybody that can hold a shield, should.” They went on to explain the uses of such a simple item: “They make a significant difference in your defense. +2AC might not sound like much, but it’s similar to adding 20% defense. For classes with low AC especially.” Many players may assume that only a Fighter or stronger melee character like a Paladin or Cleric can hold a shield, but some Bards, Druids, Rangers, Wizards, and even Sorcerers can have proficiency, as long as they’re not holding two weapons. On top of this, both humans and half-elves can naturally use shields. Given those are the most popular races in Baldur’s Gate 3, the chances are, your character can use this vital piece of kit. Even the likes of squishy Gale can benefit from the item: “For those that don’t realize, Gale (and other humans) can equip a shield and still cast spells. I went an entire playthrough without realizing because I never play human in DnD, and every spell caster I’ve ever played in DnD was never proficient with a shield.” Of course, if you’re dual-wielding then a shield isn’t entirely possible. But with the added armor and loss of almost no damage for the most part, there are no negatives to picking a shield up if you can, it could just save your life.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players call for Larian to add Excalibur-like hammer weapon – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 players call for Larian to add Excalibur-like hammer weapon Larian StudiosA concept for an Excalibur-esque hammer has Baldur’s Gate 3 players wanting Larian Studios to add a similar weapon to the CRPG. BG3 already has an Excalibur-like sword, the Phalar Aluve, which players can find in the Underdark while working through an Arthurian legend-inspired quest. And like the famous sword in Arthurian lore, players must draw Phalar Aluve from an unyielding stone. Drows and Clerics of Eilistraee should have few problems freeing the sword, while everyone else must resort to using brute strength or rituals. Baldur’s Gate 3 fans wouldn’t mind the crew at Larian taking things a step further, though. And one concept, in particular, has given the community plenty of interesting ideas to ponder. Players want this Excalibur-inspired weapon in Baldur’s Gate 3 A year ago, Twitter user and DMsGuild creator Drifters Game Workshop shared a character concept for a Barbarian who couldn’t free Excalibur and instead used the sword and the stone as a “big hammer.” Such an idea has already made its way to the likes of Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, with an Excalibur/Hammer weapon lodged in a block of stone. The Twitter user’s concept image also calls to mind Bloodborne’s beloved Kirkhammer. Notably, fans believe a similar weapon type would work well within Baldur’s Gate 3’s DnD lore. “Why are we not funding this, Larian?” asked Redditor QuickdrawBlues in a Reddit post that’s gaining lots of traction. Running with the idea, one Redditor said such a Barbarian character in BG3 should have “extremely bad luck… due to some angry gods that want the actual hero of their choice to get the sword.” The original poster added to the conversation as well, saying they’d like to see the Phalar Aluve get a “Barbarian option” that allows bludgeoning attacks. Another interesting idea posits the incredible journey the proposed Excalibur/Hammer-wielding Barbarian could go on in Baldur’s Gate 3. One user elaborated, “[the Barbarian could] get into a big encounter and all hope seems lost, then slowly the stone sluffs off as they’ve finally been deemed worthy and turn the tide of the battle with their new blade.” Based on the thread, it seems such an addition would be a dream come true for much of the BG3 community.

Baldur’s Gate 3 evil playthrough tips that won’t lock you out of content – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 evil playthrough tips that won’t lock you out of content Larian StudiosThe problem with an evil playthrough in Baldur’s Gate 3 is missing out on certain quests and content from killing NPCs. However, there are ways to avoid this while staying evil. Baldur’s Gate 3 allows players to play the game however they want, with many different options that can affect their playthrough. The amount of content in the game also further heightens its replayability, allowing for each playthrough to feel completely different — whether you’re playing as a good Tav or Dark Urge. That said, despite the amount of freedom the game has, playing an evil character has one glaring issue when not done right. While you get to see things that won’t normally happen during a good run, the chances of you being under-leveled are pretty high if you’re playing as a murderhobo killing anyone in sight. Doing this not only locks you out of future quests or extra content from certain characters, but you’ll also miss out on XP to level up. And most importantly, the more good-aligned companions will likely leave you. Luckily, some players have gathered in a Reddit thread to share their advice to avoid making this mistake when it comes to doing an evil playthrough in Baldur’s Gate 3. One player wrote, “In this game, it’s better to be self-serving than a mustache-twirling, capital-V Villain. Don’t just choose the most evil option, choose the ones that give you the most personal benefit and you’ll do plenty of evil things.” Another user pointed out that making evil decisions as the “bad guy” can open up other doors instead of locking you out of “too much content,” as opposed to just straight-up killing everyone, which will cause problems in the long run. On the other hand, a different player mentioned that there are other ways to be evil in this game rather than “murder an entire town of people.” This includes being a “sneaky, backstabbing d****” who’s only out for their own gain. Overall, Baldur’s Gate 3 has taught us that whatever actions we take, there will always be consequences waiting to happen.

Baldur’s Gate 3 player finds brutal way to keep good companions on evil run – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 player finds brutal way to keep good companions on evil run Larian StudiosA Baldur’s Gate 3 fan supposedly found a trick that lets players keep good companions on evil playthroughs, though the method likely involves a bug. Baldur’s Gate 3 allows players to play the game and engage with the story however they see fit. That doesn’t mean in-game companions always have to follow the flow of things. For example, recruiting fan-favorite companion Minthara requires users to take part in a raid that party members Karlach and Wyll don’t like. As a result, if Minthara joins the group, the other two will cut ties with the protagonist – events that mark the start of an evil playthrough. But some players want to have their cake and eat it, too. Now, one person is claiming that there’s a way to still move forward with the raid while also keeping Karlach and Wyll as companions. Can you keep good companions on evil Baldur’s Gate 3 run? In a Reddit post tagged with a spoiler warning, user Thor_HS shared a trick to keep Karlach and Wyll around even after conducting the Emerald Grove raid for Minthara. Unsurprisingly, the method in question involves even more deception on the part of the player. The Redditor claims players must recruit the good guys, kill them, and then resurrect them after completing the evil deed. “If you recruit both karlach and wyll, kill them in camp, raid the grove, and then resurrect them after you’ve had the goblin celebration,” the user explained. Supposedly, once all is said and done, the game will acknowledge that something’s off. Thor_HS added, “They will both ask, ‘What happened at the grove?’ But they will not leave the party.” Some Baldur’s Gate 3 players aren’t buying that this evil playthrough approach will survive future updates. After all, it sounds like a glitch that developer Larian Studios will eventually patch out. One popular comment in the Reddit thread notes that “this is most likely a bug… Don’t be surprised if Wyll and Karlach drop dead at some point when a new patch is implemented.” Those who’ve already given this idea and similar methods a try claim the game finds ways of course correcting. “Tried this several times last night. It worked with Karlach, but Wyll leaves immediately when the fight starts,” someone said. Another person added, “This must be a new bug, because I killed Wyll… raided the grove and got a pop-up he left (although his body stayed for a while). Think this was like 3 weeks back…” It’s probably best to steer clear of this trick, specifically to avoid future mishaps in case Larian issues a fix that retroactively impacts the past decisions.

Baldur’s Gate 3 player’s bugged epilogue leaves them “fated to die” – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 player’s bugged epilogue leaves them “fated to die” Larian StudiosAn unfortunate glitch led to one Baldur’s Gate 3 player being “fated to die” in the role-playing game’s epilogue. The release of Patch 5 added an epilogue to BG3 that plays once users reach the end of the game. Set six months after the Confront the Elder Brain quest, the sequence in question takes place at a gathering hosted by Withers. Thus far, BG3 players have scoured every inch of the finale, spotting cameos, neat D&D references, and much more. However, one user recently stumbled across a fail state that shines a light on some of the game’s buggier qualities. But at least it makes for an interesting story. Baldur’s Gate 3 player can’t escape bugged epilogue Redditor and BG3 player Boomsta22 has shared the strange circumstances that led to their inability to complete the CRPG’s epilogue. “Dying at the epilogue should be an achievement,” the user wrote on Reddit, along with some choice words for Gale. Here’s the rub, after wrapping the campaign, the user started the epilogue with the Warding Bond spell enabled. The spell lets players protect a companion from all incoming damage – the downside is that the spellcaster receives the same damage as their protected ally. Boomsta22 used the ward on Gale in the final mission, the same mission where the ally suffered Heat damage for seven turns. Unfortunately, the status effect remained intact, meaning the player is “fated to die” during Withers’ celebratory gathering. Multiple people chimed in to say they hope Baldur’s Gate 3 developers issue a fix for the bugged epilogue as soon as possible. The original poster is definitely holding out hope for such a patch. When asked if they’re stuck because their character died, the Redditor replied, “Yeah, it’s a soft lock.” At the time of writing, it’s unclear how widespread the issue is within the community.

Baldur’s Gate 3 enemies have exclusive access to a powerful D&D 5e subclass – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 enemies have exclusive access to a powerful D&D 5e subclass Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 has a Warlock subclass from D&D 5e that is only accessible to NPCs, giving them exclusive access to its powers. The Warlock class in Baldur’s Gate 3 and D&D 5e is given magical powers by making a contract with a higher power. You pick your Patron at level 1, with Baldur’s Gate 3 giving players access to The Fiend, the Great Old One, and the Archfey. D&D 5e has more options for Patrons, including the Undead, where your power comes from a being like a lich or a vampire, such as Vecna or Strahd von Zarovich. Unfortunately, Baldur’s Gate 3 players cannot use this Pact for their Warlock. There is an enemy in the game who does have the powers of the Undead Warlock however: Ch’r’ai Tska’an, a Gith who is part of a group that ambushes the party. Ch’r’ai has access to the powers of the Undead subclass, including Form of Dread, which lets them take on a monstrous appearance. The Undead Pact also has fairly easy abilities to adapt to Baldur’s Gate 3. Form of Dread gives you temporary hit points and lets you scare enemies when attacking them, Grave Touched lets you switch a damage type to Necrotic, and Necrotic Husk makes you resist/immune Necrotic damage, as well as giving you a Reaction attack when you drop to zero hit points. All of these abilities have equivalents in Baldur’s Gate 3, so it wouldn’t have been too difficult to implement the Undead Warlock subclass. As pointed out on a thread on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit, fans are mad that this wasn’t an option for the player. The Warlock Patrons are barely present in Baldur’s Gate 3 (excluding Wyll and Mizora), so it’s not like a ton of extra narrative content would be needed. Larian has confirmed that Baldur’s Gate 3 won’t receive any DLC, so the Undead Warlock won’t be added to the game… officially. Mods already provide access to the Undead Pact, so PC players can at least unleash the power of the living dead on their enemy.

Baldur’s Gate 3 item creates “horrifying” interactions with Elfsong Tavern rats – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 item creates “horrifying” interactions with Elfsong Tavern rats Larian StudiosA Baldur’s Gate 3 player realized that using Void Bulbs in the Elfsong Tavern makes for “horrifying” interactions with rats. As a grenade item, the Void Bulb is littered with suction cups that pull nearby objects toward the grenade’s target once thrown. Of course, players have figured out ways to amplify the item’s OP qualities, combining it with spells and actions to ensure maximum damage against foes. For instance, using Void Bulb and Moonbeam at the same time can result in devastating Radiant damage. But what happens if the grenade goes flying in the Elfsong Tavern when it’s overrun by rats? One player tested the idea and has since warned fellow Baldur’s Gate 3 players against making the same mistake. “Do not use a Void Bulb on the rats in the Elfsong cellar,” a Redditor named JohniiMagii said. According to the user, this particular consumable is a little too effective, since its effect on rats is “absolutely horrifying to witness.” Naturally, after being told not to do something, Baldur’s Gate 3 players want to see the chaos a Void Bulb can cause in a rat-infested Elfsong cellar. One response to the Reddit thread reads, “Time to reload and use the void bulb for the first time ever.” “Something to take note of for my next run,” said another about the warning. Others chimed in with their own peculiar techniques for clearing out the cellar’s unwanted inhabitants. A certain conjuration spell helped one user fight the infestation. “I sent Shadowheart into the doorway, had her cast spirit guardians, and just kept passing my following turns as I watched the rats run gleefully into the holy blender.” Another user cited this combination as a surefire method – “Black hole + hunger of Hadar one shots them all.” Void Bulb could soon become another fan-favorite solution for dealing with Elfsong Tavern’s rat problem, though Baldur’s Gate 3 players have no shortage of options.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Easter Egg tells the tale of a D&D legend – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 Easter Egg tells the tale of a D&D legend Baldur’s Gate 3Baldur’s Gate 3 is paying homage to one of the deadliest monsters in the Dungeons and Dragons universe and the man that dared to fight it. Built in the universe of D&D, Baldur’s Gate has lore around every corner. The most recent addition to this was found by a player roaming through one of the areas in Act 3. A knocked-over grave can be found when exploring in Act 3. When approaching the grave, text will appear on the screen that reads out the epitaph of the person buried there. “Flandro ‘Tarrasque-Biter’ Grassley – The hunter hunted, the biter bit.” For those not familiar with the Tarrasque, it is a Godzilla-like creature found in D&D. Covered in spikes with large horns, the Tarrasque isn’t to be messed with — something that makes the feat of even attempting to bite the creature all the more heroic. The story of Flandro Grassley isn’t present in the main storyline of Baldur’s Gate, but the Easter Egg is still impressive nonetheless. Something that other fans of the franchise were also fascinated with based on comments underneath the Reddit post where it was discovered. “To be honest, I am quite impressed he managed to get as far as his epitaph implies.” said one commenter. Another comment was made about an interaction later on in Act 3. Tav and their companions are faced with a spider. If interacted with multiple times, can result in your Tav licking the spider’s blood. To which Gale will reply with “Stop licking the damn thing!” Which sparked players to compare similarities between the spider and the Tarrasque. “Stop biting the damn thing!” joked another user. Whether this grave and epitaph means that Baldur’s Gate will soon have its own Tarrasque is unknown, although the idea of bringing the creature into the universe is still a cool addition.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Durge player “devastated” after learning Alfira’s fate for the first time – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 Durge player “devastated” after learning Alfira’s fate for the first time Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 is filled with secrets and some of them are tied to the class you might be playing. One player had such an experience with Alfira when going for a Durge run for the first time in the game. The discussion was initiated by a Reddit user who stated, “So first time doing a Durge run and how is it only in this campaign that Alfira joins my party?? She never has in my custom characters but she’ll join the guy who is literally insane! How did I not know this before now?” However, the experience they had was not very favorable and they mentioned, “You guys are mean for not warning me about what was going to happen. I’m actually devastated here.” As such, several Reddit users joined the conversation as they found it quite funny. One user commented, “We’ve all been there before.” Another user chimed in, “Right? I remember messaging my friend all excited and then long resting and messaging her in tears.” One user also mentioned, “It’s one of the many unique parts of Durge. Enjoy.” In case you are unaware, Alfira joins your party when you play as a Durge in the game. However, her fate is sealed in this playthrough as your character will find and kill her in the camp once you get into a long rest. There is no way to play around this in the Durge playthrough and it is a realization that most players face when they decide to go with this Origin for the first time.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Durge gets roasted by bank clerk in hilarious dialogue – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 Durge gets roasted by bank clerk in hilarious dialogue Larian StudiosOne Baldur’s Gate 3 player’s Durge character has been severely roasted by a simple bank clerk in an often unseen hilarious dialogue tree. One of the best things about Baldur’s Gate 3 is its versatility. As many have grown to discover, no matter what you do in the game, it’s usually been thought about, and there’s typically an action, cutscene, or dialogue option for it. This was once again discovered by one player, who as the Durge, attempted to open an account in the Baldur’s Gate bank. What happened after was a hilarious yet shocking turn of events that led the character to get brutally roasted by the simple bank clerk. Baldur’s Gate 3 players shocked after Durge gets brutally roasted by a bank clerk Sharing their experience on Reddit, one user revealed their “Durge getting murdered by a bank clerk.” In the images we see the Durge trying to open an account, attempting to use their “large estate” as a guarantee. Once more details were given about the estate, the clerk explained “how quaint” and made the character spell out the “Bhaal temple” to them. In true nature to their job, the clerk quickly asked if the character was “paying your mansion taxes” since it wasn’t registered on the censuses. However, the brutal comment came when they asked: “Or perhaps it isn’t valued highly enough to be above the threshold” hinting that the Durge wasn’t powerful or rich enough to make an account. This wasn’t the last of it, as the Durge explains how their ‘Father’ practically owns the city, to which the clerk responded: “Then why not bring the cold for the account? Father not given out your allowance yet?” The ‘Father’ in question is Bhaal, and Baldur’s Gate is often referred to as the City of Murder. Naturally, many fans found the interaction hilarious, with one exclaiming “This is legitimately the funniest dialogue in the whole game and I never ever knew it was possible.” Others joked that “Even the mightiest of gods crumble before the power of…capitalism” or asked “Who wins? A literal demigod, heir to the throne of the concept of Murder or a bank clerk?” It’s clear that despite months of full release, BG3 players will never stop finding hilarious moments hidden in this game.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Druids use broken Owlbear nukes to delete enemies – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 Druids use broken Owlbear nukes to delete enemies Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3’s framework of fifth edition D&D allows for some of the most creative exploits we’ve seen in a video game. The communities latest discovery has players using the game’s own rules to hit for thousands of damage. Baldur’s Gate 3 has had a historical launch eclipsing even the developer’s wildest expectations. Players have flocked to the game in droves pushing it up the Steam charts to solidify it as an instant classic. The game’s critical and commercial success is partially the result of how its D&D style of play maximizes player choice and agency. Now players are pushing Baldur’s Gate 3’s rule system to new heights with Owlbear ordnance. Twitch streamer Ellohime laid out the strat in a clip published on Twitter which showed them dealing 821 damage with a Druid. The key to the combo is shapeshifting into an Owlbear and divebombing enemies. Baldur’s Gate 3 adapts D&D rules around gravity and mass which can be applied to the Crushing Flight class action to devastating effect. The heavier your form, the more damage you’ll do with Crushing Flight, and the higher you fall from, the greater the impact area. As Ellohime illustrates, Increasing the considerable chonk of a five-tonne Owlbear with the Enlarge spell and stacking crates for a higher launch pad pushes the maneuver to its limits. It’s a fantastic example of why people are so taken with Larian’s RPG. Crushing Flight’s damage is reduced by half if the target succeeds in a Strength saving throw which is exactly what Ellohime’s victim did. This means the initial damage roll would have been a bone-crushing 1,642 bludgeoning damage. Reddit user Fishbleb used the same technique to one-shot a boss. Grym didn’t stand a chance, even with a successful save he ate a massive 1,170 points of damage. Only time will tell if Ellohime will live to regret the creation of this devastating weapon of mass destruction. We imagine that much like the atomic bomb, the true ramifications of this invention are yet to be felt. Still, we’re eager to see if anyone picks up the film rights to this historical moment. Owlbearheimer could smash box offices with the right crew behind it.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Druid player stunned after unearthing new storyline 400 hours in – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 Druid player stunned after unearthing new storyline 400 hours in Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players are still discovering new experiences and narrative shifts months after the game’s release. One player discovered an entire plot thread unique to those playing the Druid class. There’s a reason that Baldur’s Gate 3 is the 2023 Game of the Year and a massive part of it is the care and detail that Larian Studios put into it. There’s so much content that players often miss key features entirely. As a consequence of the game’s depth, Baldur’s Gate 3 players are also constantly discovering new things. Whether that’s handy exploits for combat or mathematically impossible ways to fail outside of it. There are also narrative threads that can go entirely unnoticed depending on your build and playstyle as one player recently discovered after over 400 hours in the game. Reddit user u/Haggles7 was a short way into their first Druid playthrough when they discovered an intriguing secret about Kagha. While not new knowledge to some players, u/Haggles7 has only just learned of Kagha’s treacherous deal with the Shadow Druids thanks to their own druidic leanings. A quick history check and the discovery of the Letter to Kagha shocked them greatly. “This b**ch is working with the shadow druids and you can confront her or defend the grove from shadow druids,” they wrote with what we imagine is incredulity. “This game keeps surprising me 400 hours later.” For those yet to discover this themselves, you might be interested to know that you can take Kagha down a path of redemption for a happier ending. If you’re playing as a druid yourself during all this, you’ll also get a unique staff. The Paleoak staff grants you two unique Equipment Features as well as the topple ability. It’s a solid pickup for Druids in the early game of Baldur’s Gate 3 which is good news because that’s exactly when you’ll have the opportunity to pick it up. It should be noted that the discovery of Khaga’s betrayal doesn’t hinge on you playing as a Druid and can be revealed by any class. However, only Druids will receive the Paleoak for following the questline. There could be a tonne of Baldur’s Gate 3 content you’ve missed and would never know. Baldur’s Gate 3 drops the ball with Druid companions – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 drops the ball with Druid companions Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 features Druids in an important role at the start of the story, but the game drags its feet when it comes to adding them as party members. One of the most unusual aspects of Baldur’s Gate 3’s design is that it gives you two Druid party members, even though there are no established characters that use the Bard, Sorcerer, or Monk class, making them prime targets for player choice. The two Druids in question are Halsin, the imprisoned Archdruid who is cited as someone who can heal your tadpole problem, and Jaheira, a major character from the first two Baldur’s Gate games, seen here as an old woman who still staunchly supports the Harpers. The issue that fans have, especially on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit, is the time it takes for you to unlock Halsin and Jaheira as party members. Act I has a major focus on Druids, but you don’t get any Druid characters until that storyline is over. “It annoys me to no end that we get zero Druids during the two druid questlines and then two Druids right as both quest lines end,” one user wrote, while another said, “I agree, they waited too long to have him [Halsin] join the party.” “By the time I recruited Halsin, I already had an established party of characters I knew how to use,” another fan added , “I felt it was too late to learn an other class. So I didn’t, and just left him at camp for the entire remainder of the game.” The timing is off for the Druids, as one user said, “You get access to him far too late, same with Jahera & Minsc, though they are legacy characters. If only Bear Daddy was recruitable after the Grove, I’d love to take him in the Underdark (not a euphemism. Maybe).” Baldur’s Gate 3 gives you several great characters off the bat, with Shadowheart, Astarion, Gale, Lae’zel, Karlach, and Wyll all being found within the first few hours of the game. This gives the player a lot of time to grow close to them, incentivizing you to keep them in the party, rather than going all-in on newbies. The Druids and Minsc take way too long to be introduced to the story, especially as they miss the part where they would have been the most relevant. There’s a crisis going on with a Druid Grove in Act I, but the major nature lovers aren’t in your crew when the conflict is ongoing.

Baldur’s Gate 3 doesn’t need Larian to have a brilliant sequel – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 doesn’t need Larian to have a brilliant sequel Larian Studios/Wizards of the CoastBaldur’s Gate 3 isn’t getting any DLC or direct sequels made by Larian Studios. However, the story of Tav and his companions doesn’t have to end in a single game, as the source material can keep it going in a D&D campaign. While Baldur’s Gate 3 entered early access in 2020, fans got their first taste of its story via a prequel D&D campaign called Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus. It’s not required for you to play the game, but it does fill in some of the backstory, such as why the Tieflings were kicked out of Elturel and forced to seek refuge in the Druid’s Grove. Descent into Avernus is a fun, if extremely dark, D&D campaign, and it’s worth checking out if you’re a fan of Baldur’s Gate 3. More importantly, though, it could serve as the springboard for new stories with our favorite characters. D&D is returning to Baldur’s Gate (and what that means for canon) Baldur’s Gate 2’s Throne of Bhaal expansion had two endings: one where you become the new god of murder and take Bhaal’s place or where you stay mortal. This made it easy when D&D made the game canon, but it’s going to be a big problem with Baldur’s Gate 3 due to how many endings it has. Most importantly, this could mean establishing the fates of certain characters. This will be especially important if and when a Baldur’s Gate 4 is made or if D&D wants to use any of Tav’s companions in new projects. The fate of two companions could easily be woven into a new D&D book while also answering one of the loose ends brought up in Baldur’s Gate 3 and Descent into Avernus. Karlach and Wyll’s ending could set the stage for a new D&D campaign Without getting into heavy spoilers, the Descent into Avernus campaign involves a confrontation with Zariel, the Archduchess of Avernus. This is a character who is mentioned many times throughout Baldur’s Gate 3, especially in regards to Karlach, who was forced to serve in Zariel’s realm. Descent into Avernus has several different potential outcomes for your encounter with Zariel, but none of them are mentioned in Baldur’s Gate 3. As far as that game is concerned, a group of adventurers foiled her plans for the city of Elturel, but she’s seemingly still in control of Avernus. One potential ending for Baldur’s Gate 3 involves Karlach being forced to return to Avernus, as the Infernal Engine in her chest will stop functioning if she doesn’t. Your Tav can go back with her, as can Wyll. In the Baldur’s Gate 3 epilogue, it’s revealed that Karlach and Wyll are still fighting devils, with the hope that they can steal blueprints from Zariel’s forge that will fix Karlach’s Infernal Engine for good. This is the last we hear of their fates, with their war against the fiends are left to the player’s imagination. The thing is, D&D has just released an update for its fifth edition. This means we have years of new official adventures and campaigns to come, and you know Baldur’s Gate 3 is going to get shout-outs in some of them. While we might not get a DLC or sequel for Baldur’s Gate 3, we could get a sequel to its prequel, which itself is a sequel, sort of. A D&D campaign that returns to Avernus could act as a continuation of Baldur’s Gate 3 and might actually be the best avenue for doing so, considering the nature of the prequel adventure. A campaign where the players are sent to Avernus and encounter Karlach and Wyll could give closure to their adventures in Baldur’s Gate 3. The premise being that you’re initially trying to help them steal blueprints from Zariel, leading to a full rebellion and overthrowing her for good. This would also allow players who completed the original Descent into Avernus to revisit characters & locations from that campaign. Only this time, you’re not sneaking around while trying to find a way to free Elturel; you’re here to start a revolution. While leading an army of fiends doesn’t sound like something D&D parties would do (well, that’s a complete lie, but bear with me), the residents of Avernus are Devils, which means they can be trusted to keep their word more than the other evil beings in the universe. After all, they represent the lawful and intentional acts of malice, so they can be worked with. The big appeal of the campaign would be working with the beloved Baldur’s Gate 3 characters and seeing them actively achieve their goals. It’s no secret that fans weren’t happy with Karlach’s ending, even though the epilogue did improve it somewhat. Being condemned to an endless battle in the Nine Hells is actually the best outcome for her, with the other options being death or turning into a Mind Flayer. Helping Karlach finally fix her engine and get revenge on the fallen angel who tormented her for so long would be the better ending to her story, and it’s one that an entire party of players could do. The downside to this is that the players aren’t the focus, or at least their final goals would take a backseat more than they would in a usual D&D campaign. Still, kicking off an epic conflict in Hell, overthrowing an archdevil, and letting Karlach finally go home would still be an epic experience. And hey, you could finally do something that Withers couldn’t. You can finally show that creepy old skeleton who is boss and defy fate, even if it wasn’t Tav or the Dark Urge responsible for it.

Baldur’s Gate 3 doesn’t give Act Two’s saddest scene the respect it deserves – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 doesn’t give Act Two’s saddest scene the respect it deserves Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3’s second act has some of the saddest and most disturbing scenes in the game, but one of the hardest reveals just feels entirely underwhelming. With such a large scope, it’s tough for Baldur’s Gate 3 to get across all the emotions it needs at every point. After all, some depend on your choices, and others can be approached in a different light depending on the player, the character, or even the Origin character you choose to play. Nevertheless, if you choose to save the Tieflings in Act One then you’ll be in for a devastating surprise when you get to Act Two and find they’ve been murdered, with some being kidnapped. Unfortunately, upon discovering this scene, the lack of emotion and respect given by the companions can be shocking to many. The community seems to echo the same sentiments, with many taking to social media like Reddit to express their confusion when first stumbling across those poor Tieflings, explaining how they’re “disappointed with lack of Act 2 responses” from the companions in particular. While some of the other Tieflings, like Alfira and Rolan, react well and take the discovery pretty hard, the likes of Karlach, Gale, and even Wyll just seem to brush past the devastating scene, with most more focused on their own stories. Naturally, that companion focus is important as it’s typically the drive to get the player to participate in the companion quests, but it’s tough to ignore how stark it is to see Wyll and Karlach ignore a horrific murder that they could feel indirectly responsible for depending on their actions. Baldur’s Gate 3’s second act is undeniably touching and emotional, but this scene often just feels lacking after such raw emotion not long before.

Baldur’s Gate 3 doesn’t do Harpers justice – but there may be a good reason for it – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 doesn’t do Harpers justice – but there may be a good reason for it Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 introduces the Harpers in Act 2 after decent hype, and the group kind of falls flat. It’s not how the Harpers are meant to be, but it may just be by design. In legends, the Harpers in Baldur’s Gate 3 are a massive, semi-secret group that influences world events and fights for the innocent. Which is why their incompetence when finally met is so shocking to players. When met during the game’s second act, the Harpers can join the main character and companions in a few missions, and they look like they don’t know what they’re doing. This introduction is disappointing for a lot of people who were eager to see Baldur’s Gate 3’s portrayal of this group. However, there may just be a logical reason for it. Criticism of the Harpers has been going on in the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, where a player asks: “Are the Harpers supposed to give me a sense of incompetence?” It’s an understandable question, as they don’t do much to really impress anyone when interacted with, which feels contradictory to their lore in Baldur’s Gate 3 and beyond. The Harpers are an immense organization that seem to have their hands involved in most things across the Realms, if stories are anything to go by. In most any other kind of media, these kinds of characters should be powerful and able to dispatch of most foes. However, this changes when brought to a video game. In a video game, the main character needs to be the hero, and they can’t be that if other characters can handle their situations on their own. A game is meant to evoke that feeling of power in order to feel rewarding. If every NPC was as powerful as they could be, then there really wouldn’t be a need for the main character or hero of the story. Or, at the very least, the stakes would feel small to the point of irrelevance. There needs to be a reason why the main character is needed in the scenario, and having the Harpers be what the legends say they are would take that reason away. Further, especially in Baldur’s Gate 3, the main character and their companions are meant to be the best of the best; they have the capability to be better than almost anyone else. These are not just random people who have stumbled on this huge crisis. These are characters who were once the greatest at what they do and have fallen out of favor. An argument could be made that the Harpers shouldn’t be included at all if the main character and friends needed to look stronger, but that would be difficult to do as they are a heavy influence in a lot of what is going on in the world. It’s a near-impossible issue to resolve for Larian, and Baldur’s Gate 3 certainly doesn’t suffer for it. At the end of the day, it’s a game that is meant to entertain, and it does that in spades.

Baldur’s Gate 3 dev shares update on possible DLC after successful launch – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 dev shares update on possible DLC after successful launch Larian StudiosThe founder and CEO behind Baldur’s Gate 3 developer, Larian Studios, has offered an update about potential DLC expansion plans. Baldur’s Gate 3 hit the ground running last week. After securing its place as one of the best Steam launches this year, the RPG then went on to hit a peak of more than 800,000 concurrent users over the weekend. While countless players continue to enjoy the DnD-themed world, many are also wondering what else the crew at Larian may have up its sleeve. Given the incredible success of Baldur’s Gate 3, the answer about what’s next may come as a surprise to some. Is Larian Studios working on DLC for Baldur’s Gate 3? Speaking with PC Gamer, Larian founder and CEO Swen Vincke was asked about the possibility of an expansion for Baldur’s Gate 3. Vincke told the publication, “honestly, we haven’t started on an expansion.” DnD’s level cap stops at 20, but BG3’s ends at level 12. As PC Gamer noted, an expansion seems the ideal way to expand on leveling in the recently released role-playing game. But Vincke quickly explained why building out the content in this way would prove “very hard” from the studio’s standpoint. For one, the closer a player gets to Level 20 in DnD, the more overpowered their abilities become. In other words, such an undertaking would engender several design-based challenges. Vincke expounded on the level cap matter as it relates to potential DLC support for Baldur’s Gate 3: “[Level 12-20] adventures require a different way of doing things, in terms of antagonists you’re going to have to deal with, which require a lot of development to do them properly. Which would make this much more than an expansion in terms of development effort. “A lot of D&D adventures are sub-level 12 for precisely that reason. So it sounds like neat, easy expansion material until you start thinking about it and it’s not as easy as one would imagine.” Though Larian isn’t currently working on an expansion, it doesn’t seem as if the developer is definitively against the possibility. But if such content does ever see the light of day, Vincke’s words indicate players could be waiting for quite a long time.

Baldur’s Gate 3 dev drops bad news for players expecting DLC and sequels – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 dev drops bad news for players expecting DLC and sequels baldur’s gate 3 dlcDLC releases and a sequel are out of the question for Baldur’s Gate 3, according to Larian Studios CEO Sven Vincke. Larian developers have expressed an interest in producing DLC in the past. Speaking to IGN during gamescom 2023, Senior Product Manager Tom Butler simply noted that the crew wanted to do more in the DnD universe. Butler didn’t offer specifics, though, leaving players to wonder whether the studio would develop new post-launch content or start thinking up sequel plans. The uncertainty aside, Baldur’s Gate 3 has continuously received regular updates that enhance the experience. But when such support comes to an end, Larian will step away from the Dungeons and Dragons property. Baldur’s Gate 3 devs will not make DLC, says Larian boss IGN reports that while speaking on a March 21 GDC panel, Larian CEO Sven Vincke revealed there are no plans for new Baldur’s Gate 3 content. As such, BG3 faithful shouldn’t expect DLC, expansions, or even a Baldur’s Gate 4 from the award-winning development team. Instead of expanding on their existing Baldur’s Gate story, Vincke explained that he and the crew plan on doing something else outside of DnD, according to IGN. What that something else may entail presently remains a mystery. In turn, whatever comes next for Baldur’s Gate will be left entirely in the hands of publisher Wizards of the Coast. While the lack of DLC and a sequel will disappoint many, Larian has supported Baldur’s Gate 3 extensively in the months since launch. And every bit of that content has come via free updates, one of which included a playable epilogue sequence featuring some of the RPG’s finest writing. An Honour Mode, several character-based adjustments, and much more also went live post-release. No matter where Larian goes next, a captive audience is sure to follow with bated breath.

Baldur’s Gate 3 director’s son trolled over bear sex scene: “I wasn’t ready for that” – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 director’s son trolled over bear sex scene: “I wasn’t ready for that” Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3’s director revealed in a recent interview that the game’s allowance for animal love had some unintended consequences in the home. The lead-up to Baldur’s Gate 3’s full release was a bit of a wild one. The crowning moment of marketing success was the viral reveal of a sex scene with a bear. Well, a Druid in the form of a bear, but still. It’s unknown exactly how much this moment contributed to the game’s massive success. We like to think it cracked Steam’s top ten highest concurrent players chart on its own merits. Then again, the bear sex is a merit to some. Game Director and Larian founder Swen Vincke had a chat with PC Gamer about the decision to highlight the druidic dalliance ahead of release. During this, he revealed that the moment was great for the game, less so for his son. Regarding the genius choice of adding bear sex to the highlight reel, Vincke explained the thought process. “We wanted a scene people were going to talk about, but we wanted to show that this was a cinematic game, with characters that have depth to them,” he said. While Astarion certainly did go deep, Vincke was referring to a different kind of depth. “The bear’s obviously a druid, and he has a story. He’s been around for hundreds of years,” he said. “He’s lived with bears for part of his life also, so that’s where the bear thing comes from.” The scene certainly did reach a lot of people. Some of which were the friends of Vincke’s 17-year-old son. “My son comes to me telling me, ‘Dad, people are sending me pictures of bears from everywhere,” he said. “I wasn’t ready for that.” Vincke went on to explain that his son was receiving calls from his friends to let him know his dad was some kind of deviant. “I could overhear him going like ‘Yeah, I KNOW!’ (to people on the phone).” Baldur’s Gate 3 offers a plethora of romantic options that aren’t bear-related, of course, and Vincke says that these are great dramatic tools. “You get great conflict there, and that creates the most engaging storytelling,” he explained. The game’s prolific horniness has certainly resonated with its fans. Their escapades include wishing one of the game’s villains would step on them and mods that increase the size of half-orc genitals.

Baldur’s Gate 3 director wants more CRPG games to follow their success – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 director wants more CRPG games to follow their success Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 director Swen Vincke wants to see more studios make CRPGs following the incredible success of the D&D 5E video game. Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the biggest games of 2023, owing to its gameplay that adapts D&D 5E to the video game format, epic story, deep character relationships, excellent voice cast, and sheer number of ways you can play the game. With success comes imitation, but Baldur’s Gate 3 is not a trend-setter. There have been plenty of CRPGs based on tabletop RPGs and similar works over the years, including the original Baldur’s Gate in the 90s and recent titles like Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. The critical and commercial success of Baldur’s Gate 3 opens the door for more CRPGs to be made in the future. The game’s director discussed this topic during a recent awards ceremony, where Baldur’s Gate 3 took home plenty of prizes. Larian Studios head Swen Vincke hopes to play more games like Baldur’s Gate 3 in the future Baldur’s Gate 3 director and Larian Studios head Swen Vincke was interviewed by GamesRadar+ during the Golden Joystick Awards 2023, following the game taking home the Ultimate Game of the Year award, for a total of six prizes won throughout the event. Vincke was asked about the CRPG genre and the growing attention drawn to it by Baldur’s Gate 3. “We’ve always been very focused on just making our game, and a lot of people have attached a lot of things to that because the game turned out the way that we wanted it to be,” he said. “So I hope there will be more games like a CRPG type of game. It’s a game I like to play, and a lot of people in the industry like to play as well. So, If those games come out, and they don’t have a story that we know already, I think that will be great. I look forward to those types of games.” There are more CRPGs in the works, including Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader in 2023. Baldur’s Gate 3 is also set to receive DLC, which means it could receive substantial content updates in the future. The only issue is that CRPGs take a long time to develop, with Baldur’s Gate 3 seeing several delays throughout production. The genre is still fairly niche compared to others, and not all companies can afford the double licensing benefit of the Baldur’s Gate and D&D 5E names for their projects.

Baldur’s Gate 3 director says its success allows for more ambitious games – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 director says its success allows for more ambitious games Larian StudiosWhile celebrating the game’s impressive review scores, Larian Studios CEO and Baldur’s Gate 3 director Swen Vincke said the team’s success means they can keep making games like it. Baldur’s Gate 3 has surpassed everyone’s expectations to be a massive critical success. No one seems more pleasantly surprised by this than the game’s developer, Larian Studios. While the team is known for making great RPGs, Baldur’s Gate 3 is easily its biggest project to date. While celebrating this success and praising those who worked so hard on it, Baldur’s Gate 3 director Swen Vincke explained why the game’s success means so much to its developers and what it means for Larian’s future. Making Baldur’s Gate 3 was a huge risk for Larian – and it paid off According to Vincke, the success of Baldur’s Gate 3 means Larian can keep making games like it. The rising cost of game development and relatively niche status of the CRPG genre makes a huge, ambitious title like Baldur’s Gate 3 a huge risk. For many smaller studios, it simply wouldn’t be possible to make a game like this, especially with Larian’s level of polish. A release like Baldur’s Gate 3 shows that there’s demand for games like it. It also means Larian will be able to continue its work, taking risks in pursuit of delivering great gaming experiences. Baldur’s Gate 3 took many years to become what it is today. It famously spent nearly three full years in early access before its full PC release this month. Before that, Larian was initially rejected by Wizards of the Coast when it brought up the prospect of developing a new Baldur’s Gate game. The company eventually changed its mind when it saw what the team was accomplishing with Divinity: Original Sin II. Baldur’s Gate 3’s launch – and all the celebration surrounding it – is a long time coming for its developers and shows that the risk it took paid off in a massive way. While it’ll be a while before we see what Larian does next, whether that’s a new game or Baldur’s Gate 3 DLC, it’s safe to assume the studio won’t be playing it safe.

Baldur’s Gate 3 director reveals unused speech he had planned for The Game Awards – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 director reveals unused speech he had planned for The Game Awards The Game AwardsBaldur’s Gate 3 director Swen Vincke has uploaded the speech he wish he made during The Game Awards to social media. Baldur’s Gate 3 was hugely successful at The Game Awards 2023, winning several awards, but that success was overshadowed by controversies during the show. The most significant was the short amount of time allotted for each award speech, regardless of who won. Except for the final award, everyone who went up to collect their prize was given under a minute to give their speech before the orchestra started playing them off. This may have been prompted by Christopher Judge’s long acceptance speech the previous year, which was joked about during the show. As Baldur’s Gate 3 won Game of the Year, director Swen Vincke was given more time than the other winners, but even he couldn’t get through everything he wanted to say, especially as so many people needed to be thanked. Baldur’s Gate 3 director Swen Vincke reveals what he wanted to say at The Game Awards Swen Vincke posted a lengthy chain of tweets on his Twitter/X page, outlining everything he wished he had said during his acceptance speech at The Game Awards. These include Baldur’s Gate 3 coming to Xbox Series X/S, which he forgot to say, leading to it being shadowdropped after the event. In the replies, Vincke thanked the other nominees, Geoff Keighley, and everyone involved with The Game Awards. He explained why he wears the suit of armor, as it’s a tribute to the community. Vincke thanked many people at Larian Studios, including the Q&A team, localization team, customer support team, operations team, publishing team, playtesters, and every developer at Larian. He also thanked the developers who passed away during Baldur’s Gate 3’s development. Along with the developers, Vincke thanked his family, the actors who worked on Baldur’s Gate 3, and Wizards of the Coast, who own the Dungeons & Dragons license. Vincke ended with a story about how games are developed with passion and idealism. It’s a shame that Vincke and the other winners didn’t get more time to thank people at The Game Awards, but at least they have other outlets to share their appreciation.

Baldur’s Gate 3 director reveals scrapped Fugue Plane mechanic – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 director reveals scrapped Fugue Plane mechanic Forgotten Realms WikiBaldur’s Gate 3 director Swen Vincke shares a scrapped idea that would give dying a completely new perspective. Larson Studios, the masterminds behind Baldur’s Gate, meticulously crafted every aspect of the game. From clothing-specific dialogues to diabolic backstories, Baldur’s Gate is a treasure trove of exploration. There was even a planned Falug Plane that your Tav would have to explore to return to their companions. In DnD lore, this is essentially the afterlife. The following quote came directly from director Vincke, who revealed the scrapped idea on a podcast. “Whenever you died, you were supposed to the Fugue Plane,” said Vincke. “I had this entire thing when you died you go into Fugue Plane, you were going to be dealing with the Fugue Plane. For instance, you would be in the Fugue Plane, but the rest of your party would still be walking around in the Material Plane.” The Fugue Plane is an idea from the lore of the Forgotten Realms. It serves as a neutral realm within the Astral Sea where spirits go after death. Here, gods convene to gather the departed and allocate them to their corresponding heavens, depending on their loyalty to a particular deity. Currently, there are no alternative worlds that the Tav explores after death. After perishing in battle, the way back is to load up the next save and hope for the best. Vincke revealed little about the feature that never made it into the game. However, it could have been similar to Warzone’s Gulag, where the player must fight to survive. In the realm of Baldur’s Gate, this could have manifested as intense battles with Mindflayers or the thrill of rolling a nat 20. Regardless, the opportunity to traverse a new plane after death would have introduced a unique dynamic to the game.

Baldur’s Gate 3 director reveals major villain was originally a companion – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 director reveals major villain was originally a companion Larian StudiosThe director of Larian Studios, the dev team behind Baldur’s Gate 3, revealed that a major villain was initially planned to be a companion. Part of what makes Baldur’s Gate 3 such a crowd-pleaser is the way in which gamers can befriend, romance, and learn about the various companions they encounter throughout the game. These characters aid them on quests, helping them complete certain story beats and completely altering the ending of the game in some cases. Given how important this aspect to the game is, it will likely come as no surprise to fans when the Larian Studios head, Swen Vincke, revealed that the team had created even more companion characters. Some of them were cut from the game altogether while others were repurposed and brought into the game in other ways. During an interview with IGN, Vincke revealed that the main villain of Act 2, Ketheric Thorm, was originally intended to be a companion for players to recruit. “If you play the game and there’s a moment where you can convince him and you can see that a moment where he breaks, that moment led to recruitment normally,” Vincke began. “We cut that out when we were rescoped. It was part of the fixing of Act 2 when we were stuck on it. That was what happened in the rescoping. He was supposed to be in your camp while you were dealing with Gortash and with Orin. So he became a source of information on them, and he could trust, you could get him to his arc. You could then be convinced by him to go to his side. So it was a great story, but yeah.” Vincke also discussed how the map was originally going to be much smaller in scope and that getting the size of area right was a major focus for the BG3 dev team at Larian Studios.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Director reveals he’s already working on “the next game” – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 Director reveals he’s already working on “the next game” Larian Studios/Wizards of the CoastBaldur’s Gate 3 is riding high with a huge level of success but the game’s Director is not content to sit still. In a recent interview, he divulged that he’s already moved on to his next project. Baldur’s Gate 3 emerged in a shockingly explosive fashion and has rapidly become one of the most successful PC launches in history. The game is set to release on PS5 very soon and will bring the much-loved adventure to an even bigger audience. In a recent video interview published on the Dungeons & Dragons YouTube channel, Baldur’s Gate 3 Director Swen Vincke said that the console launch meant he was essentially “done” with the game. He clarified that while his team would handle post-release patches like the recent fix to Karlach’s ending, he would be working on something entirely different. Vincke was cagey about the specifics, but it’s very clear he has a new game in store for fans of Baldur’s Gate 3. Swen Vincke on Larian’s next game after Baldur’s Gate 3 Talk of the new project started when interviewer Todd Kenreck asked Vincke what works of fiction currently inspired him. “You’re actually asking me about my next game, so I’m not going to answer that,” Vincke replied cryptically. He explained that now that the console editions of Baldur’s Gate 3 were shipping, he was stepping back from the title. “The PS5 version is shipping, we’ve just uploaded it, so I’m done. I’m going to move on to the next game.” Vincke elaborated that while he was finished with Baldur’s Gate 3, that didn’t mean that work on the title was at an end. “Fans will come to us and they will say ‘We need this, this, and this’. That’s all coming but it will be the team who delivers it,” he explained. While a break is certainly on the cards for him, Vincke has had the next game he wants to develop in mind “for some time now”. “You’ve been working towards this thing and then it’s like ‘hey I’ve reached this point, now what?’ and so you have to start again,” Vincke finished. The prospect of a new Larian Studios game is incredibly exciting and fans have already thrown out ideas for the developer to work on. Interestingly, when pressed further, Vincke said he had a passion for fantasy and sci-fi but was very “picky” about his entertainment. Whether this means their next title is set in space is up for debate but fans can rest assured that it will draw from quality material. However, given Baldur’s Gate 3 spent six years in development, this one is likely a while off.

Baldur’s Gate 3 dev claims Patch 1 will include 1000+ bug fixes & tweaks – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 dev claims Patch 1 will include 1000+ bug fixes & tweaks Larian StudiosLarian Studios’ Swen Vincke has given Baldur’s Gate 3 players an idea of what to expect from the next few updates. Baldur’s Gate 3 is a massive success among critics and fans alike, but like any game, it has its imperfections. Larian Studios has already released three Hotfixes that fix some bugs and make minor changes to the game. For example, Hotfix 2 addressed some crash and save issues while also making sure certain characters were appropriately covered. However, the developer has previously teased that bigger changes are coming. Now, Larian CEO and Baldur’s Gate 3 director Swen Vincke has given players a quick roadmap of what to expect from the next few updates. Baldur’s Gate 3 has another Hotfix and two Patches planned In a tweet, Vincke thanked fans for their feedback before giving an update on what Larian has in the works for Baldur’s Gate 3. While no specifics were given on what these updates will include or when they will release, this does set expectations for what’s to come. Hotfix 4 will likely squash more bugs and fix immediate issues players are finding, which Vincke says is Larian’s current priority. As for the Patches, it looks like they will be more comprehensive, with Patch 1 having “+1000 fixes and tweaks.” After addressing these problems, Larian will be able to move on to Patch 2, which is said to add some changes fans have been asking for since launch. Among these will likely be the ability to change a character’s appearance after starting the game, which Larian’s Director of Publishing Michael Douse told a fan on Twitter is “being cooked.” While Baldur’s Gate 3 DLC is ways away – if it happens at all – it’s clear Larian plans to support the game for a long time to come.

Baldur’s Gate 3 director reacts to player’s disturbing “special box” – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 director reacts to player’s disturbing “special box” Larian StudiosA Baldur’s Gate 3 player’s creepy “special box” is turning heads among the community, even drawing a reaction from the game’s director. Baldur’s Gate 3 players have almost endless possibilities to cause chaos as they’re provided with opportunities to proceed down vastly different gameplay paths. For this reason, among many others, Baldur’s Gate 3 has emerged as not just one of the best games of the year but is now regarded as one of the “best RPGs ever made.” In fact, the game’s expansive and detail-rich nature has actually “ruined gaming” for many players who are now feeling bored by other “formulated” games. Being spoiled for choice has led players down a wide range of possibilities in-game, but one player’s disturbing path has even caught the attention of the game’s director. One Baldur’s Gate 3 player on X (formerly known as Twitter) shared an in-game screenshot of their “special box” on the platform. The eerie box contained an awkwardly impressive collection of corpses that had been “collected” since visiting the Emerald Grove in Act 1. The Emerald Grove is one of the very first locations that players visit on a Baldur’s Gate 3 playthrough. Upon reaching the destination, players are presented with their first tough decision of either siding with the residents of Emerald Grove to defend their home or joining with the likes of the Goblins to attack and invade. Each decision has benefits and drawbacks, but this player’s Dark Urge playthrough seemingly led them down the path of killing not just all of the Tieflings who resided in Emerald Grove but many of the Druids who lived there as well. Inside the player’s “special box” were the heads of Tieflings Dammon, Mol, and Rolan, as well as Druids such as Kagha and Rath. Companions had been killed and collected too, with Shadowheart and Karlach among the many heads now residing in the “special box.” However, keen Baldur’s Gate 3 fans were quick to point out that the player was missing one piece that would be more than fitting for the collection: Gale’s hand. But it seems that had already been taken care of as the player noted that Gale’s hand was in their pocket, and they were planning to put it in their “hand bag” later. With more than 250,000 views on X, the player’s remarkably awkward “achievement” has gone viral among the Baldur’s Gate 3 community. Among the many who reacted was Baldur’s Gate 3 Director Swen Vincke, who simply commented, “Nice,” while re-tweeting the screenshot. With Larian Studios committing to “pushing many boundaries” in their “next big game,” fans can rest assured that they’ll have plenty of gameplay paths available to them in the years to come.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Director is open to a level 13-20 experience: “It’s not undoable” – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 Director is open to a level 13-20 experience: “It’s not undoable” Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 caps out at level 12 owing to its reliance on D&D 5E’s ruleset, but we could see level 20 at some capacity in the future. Director Swen Vincke said that incorporating levels 13-20 is certainly achievable. Baldur’s Gate 3’s near-faithful incorporation of D&D 5E’s rules is at the heart of what has made it so beloved by players. It allows for viral shenanigans like one-shotting bosses with capitalism or accidentally murdering your companions in the pursuit of love. Those rules are not always hard and fast, however, and Larian will bend them in Baldur’s Gate 3 for the sake of transferring the tabletop to the video game. One of the primary examples of that is the institution of the level 12 cap to keep things somewhat grounded. In a video interview on the D&D YouTube channel, Baldur’s Gate 3 Director Swen Vincke was asked about how the cap would impact DLC in the game if they were unable to set a new cap. Vincke replied that it would not be impossible to bring levels 13-20 of D&D into a game. Swen Vincke on levels 13-20 in Baldur’s Gate 3 In D&D 5E, level 12 is when the power scaling ramps up significantly in terms of the abilities and especially the spells that players have access to. Larian has been open about the potential difficulty that this brings to development. Despite that, Vincke did say that while a new level cap isn’t necessarily on the cards, DLC is not out of the question. “Well you could do different things in it (DLC) so it doesn’t have to be necessarily at the end of the game,” Vincke explained. “There’s different ways that you can do that.” In regards to the potential for a level 13-20 experience, Vincke said it was definitely possible, but it would be “a different game”. “You’d need different stakes, different environments, different protagonists, and antagonists but it’s not undoable,” he asserted. Interestingly enough, in that same interview, Vincke revealed he had already moved on to “the next game” for Larian Studios. Could a fully functional D&D campaign be in the works for the developer? The possibility of wielding the godlike power that becomes available to certain classes in their level 20 D&D incarnations is a tantalizing one. However, the potential wait does dampen the hype a little. Our Baldur’s Gate 3 guides certainly won’t let you brandish the power of a god but they’re definitely handy. Baldur’s Gate 3 director indicates Patch 7 will be final major update – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 director indicates Patch 7 will be final major update Larian StudiosLarian Studios CEO and Baldur’s Gate 3 director Swen Vincke has called Patch 7, which will add official modding tools, a handover to the players, hinting that it’ll be the game’s final major content update. Vincke discussed the update and Larian’s future plans during An Evening with Baldur’s Gate 3, a masterclass hosted by the BAFTAs on June 14, 2024. As Eurogamer shared, the director is looking forward to implementing official mod support, saying “One of the big things for us, and the one that we’re really working towards now, is the ability for players to mod [Baldur’s Gate 3] themselves, because then they will be able to make their own things.” Vincke went on to refer to the upcoming release of Patch 7, planned for September 2024, as “the point where we’re going to say ‘ok, now it’s yours fully’” to players by letting them create and add content to the game. But while Larian doesn’t plan to completely end support for Baldur’s Gate 3 in the immediate future, Vincke indicates players shouldn’t expect more major content drops. Though the developers are currently “still working as if the game was just out,” Vincke says “you will see the level of support diminished to really critical bug fixes” after Patch 7’s release. Of course, Baldur’s Gate 3 mods have been around since launch and range from new gameplay features – like raising the level cap and expanding party size – to restoring cut content and, for whatever reason, giving Astarion guns. However, Larian’s official tools will make mods far easier to create and share. The update won’t let fans create new story content, but console players will be able to use (though not make) mods for the first time. While the lack of additional Baldur’s Gate 3 content will likely disappoint many players, it’s not a surprise given that Larian already confirmed it won’t be making DLC or Baldur’s Gate 4. The studio is instead working on “two very ambitious RPGs,” at least one of which is teased in Baldur’s Gate 3. For now, Larian remains hard at work on Patch 7 and its modding tools, with Vincke saying it’s been “hard trying to make that work.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 director has already planned Act 1 of his next game – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 director has already planned Act 1 of his next game Larian Studios/Wizards of the CoastBaldur’s Gate 3 director Swen Vincke took to social media to share his excitement over his next project, but also cautioned that it will be a while before he can talk about it. At over 75 hours long, Baldur’s Gate 3 is a massive experience that some players may never actually see the end of. It doesn’t help that players are reportedly spending years worth of playtime on character creation screens. As with any game, regardless of size, players are eagerly looking forward to that next thing. For Baldur’s Gate 3 fans, that means the next massive Larian RPG. While nothing has been formally announced, there is some glimmer of hope for those fans though, as the director of Baldur’s Gate 3 has indicated he’s had a breakthrough on what could be his next project. Baldur’s Gate 3 director Swen Vincke is working on Act 1 of his next project In a series of Tweets first reported by IGN, Baldur’s Gate 3 director Swen Vincke revealed he’d had a breakthrough on Act 1 of his next project. “Been a great morning! After 4 months of rewriting and rewriting and abandoning ideas and then revisiting them, finally figured out what act 1 on this thing I’ve been working on needs to be,,” Vincke tweeted. “Quote me when it’s revealed to see how much of today’s draft survives. I suspect a lot.” Vincke is quick to temper fans’ expectations about his next project, though, making it clear that it’s not a teaser or an announcement. Instead he’s just sharing with his fans his excitement about the project. “It’ll be quite some time before we talk about this.” Vincke added in a follow-up tweet. There’s no telling when fans can expect an update, but the timeframe could be years away. Baldur’s Gate 3 started development in late 2016 and remained in an early access state from 2020 until its August 2023 release. That care and attention to detail has paid off for Larian Studios, though, as Baldur’s Gate 3 swept The Game Awards 2023, including Game of the Year. The exact details on what’s next for the studio has yet to be revealed, though Larian indicated in a previous interview that a return to the Divinity series was on the table. Baldur’s Gate 3 director explains why Xbox version was shadow dropped – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 director explains why Xbox version was shadow dropped Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 director Swen Vincke has revealed why the Xbox Series X/S port was released without a formal launch date announcement. Xbox fans have been waiting all year for a port of Baldur’s Gate 3, especially as the PC and PS5 versions racked up critical acclaim and multiple industry awards. Fortunately, Larian Studios promised that the Xbox port would be announced at The Game Awards 2023. Those who watched as Baldur’s Gate 3 cleaned up at The Game Awards were left confused, as no Xbox Series X/S port announcements were made. It wasn’t until the show ended that Larian revealed that the Xbox Series X/S version was available to download. Considering the show was filled with reveals, including commercials for Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s curious why more of an effort wasn’t made to announce the Xbox Series X/S. It turns out the reason is mundane and understandable. Baldur’s Gate 3 director forgot to announce the Xbox Series X/S port release date Swen Vincke has explained on his Twitter/X account that he was meant to announce the release date for the Xbox Series X/S port of Baldur’s Gate 3, but he forgot. This is understandable, considering the excitement of the occasion and there being no guarantees of winning an award. The Game Awards 2023 has come under fire for not giving award recipients a lot of time to give their speeches and quickly running through some major categories in a quick-fire series of announcements. However, this may have been prompted by a certain incredibly long speech from last year’s event. Vincke went up on stage when Baldur’s Gate 3 won Game of the Year, but he used his time to thank everyone involved with the production and the fans for supporting the game, which was more important than a release date. It was odd that Larian promised to announce the Xbox Series X/S release date during The Game Awards, only for it to be planned as a mention that never happened. It would have made sense to include it in the Baldur’s Gate 3 accolades trailer that ran during the show, but it wasn’t meant to be. The Xbox Series X/S owners of the world can finally play one of the best games of 2023, just as it finished winning awards for the year. Luckily, they’re getting a superior version of the game than the PC/PS5 launch ports, thanks to all of the updates, so they can’t be too mad about the late shadow drop.

Baldur’s Gate 3 director coyly hints at new story content – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 director coyly hints at new story content Larian StudiosLarian Studios’ CEO Swen Vincke has subtly teased that new story-related content may come to Baldur’s Gate 3. Baldur’s Gate 3 has been available on PC for nearly a month, and some players have already seen much of what the game has to offer in Act 3. With some fans having already completed their time with the game, many have wondered if DLC content is on the table. While developer Larian Studios initially stated they had no plans for DLC, the team recently said they “want to do more” with the game. Now, it seems Larian may be more open to the idea of more story-related content expansions down the line after CEO Swen Vincke slyly hinted at a possible course of action. Larian Studios CEO hints at possible Baldur’s Gate 3 DLC content The tease came from Vincke’s Twitter account after he quote-tweeted Larian Studio’s Community Update #24 post. Vincke simply said: “Thinking of all the actors we’re going to call back to the studio.” Calling back actors into the studio to record new lines of dialogue is the first concrete hint fans have heard about new content coming to the game. In game development, actors typically record voice work fairly early on in production and have no real reason to come back after the game has launched. Except, of course, when there’s brand-new content in the works. Seeing as Baldur’s Gate 3 is a very story-heavy game, it wouldn’t be surprising to hear that many voice actors would need to come back to reprise their roles should more story-related content be coming in the future. Of course, this is all still speculation as no concrete story expansions have been officially confirmed. It’s technically possible voice actors may be brought back in to alter or add to scenes already in the final game, such as Karlach’s expanded epilogue. Still, that seems somewhat unlikely. For now, fans will just have to keep an eye out for any future announcements Larian Studios has in store.

Baldur’s Gate 3 director confirms Xbox launch for Series X and S this year – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 director confirms Xbox launch for Series X and S this year Larian StudiosThe director of Baldur’s Gate 3 has confirmed that the game will release on Series X|S consoles this year following a major concession from Xbox. The massive success of Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of this year’s biggest gaming surprises. Larian Studios took a relatively niche genre and turned it into a mainstream hit. While the game is out on PC and on PlayStation 5 next month, Xbox fans have been frustrated by a lack of an official port announcement. This is due to reported issues trying to get the game to run on the less powerful Series S. That finally changed with an announcement from the game’s director, who says Baldur’s Gate 3 will release on Xbox Series X|S this year. Baldur’s Gate 3’s release breaks Xbox’s Series X|S parity requirement Baldur’s Gate 3 director Swen Vincke confirmed that, following a meeting with Xbox boss Phil Spencer, Larian will be able to release its game on the Series X|S. While not meant to be a console exclusive, Baldur’s Gate 3 was unable to be released on Xbox due to the technical limitations with the Series S. The team was unable to get split-screen co-op to work on the system and, since Xbox requires feature parity for all games that release on its hardware, Larian was faced with the choice of a Series X|S release without split-screen co-op or no release at all. According to Vincke, however, Xbox has reversed its decision, or at least made an exception to its policy for Baldur’s Gate 3. While the Series X will have split-screen co-op, the Series S version will not. This is a huge change in tune from Xbox. Since the consoles’ launch, developers have reported issues trying to make games for both systems given Microsoft’s refusal to budge on the parity requirement. The Series S is significantly less powerful than its more expensive counterpart, meaning studios that want to push the Series X to its limits must ensure their games will work on both. This is obviously great news for Xbox gamers who want to play Baldur’s Gate 3, but Microsoft’s concession here has major implications for future games. Xbox opening the door for Larian is a sign that it may be willing to relax its controversial feature parity policy, something that may allow developers to take full advantage of the Series X’s full capabilities.

Baldur’s Gate 3 difficulty settings explained – Dexerto
Baldur’s Gate 3 difficulty settings explained Larian StudiosThere are a number of difficulty settings to choose from in Baldur’s Gate 3 so players can adjust their gameplay experience, here’s a guide to all the available options in the game. Baldur’s Gate 3 is a massive RPG packed full of content from unique companions to meet, enemies to battle, and all kinds of quests to go on, you’re never short of something to do in The Forgotten Realms. There are multiple difficulty settings in Baldur’s Gate 3 so you can either enjoy the story unfolding or experience a tougher challenge depending on how experienced you are with Dungeons and Dragons. From the easiest to the most punishing, here’s everything you need to know about the difficulty options in the game. Baldur’s Gate 3 difficulty settings explained There are a total of four difficulty settings available for players to choose from in Baldur’s Gate 3 and each mode offers a different experience for players. The options are as follows: Balanced – Explorer – Tactician – Honour Mode – Balanced mode is the default normal mode for the game, which offers a nice blend of challenging encounters while allowing players to mainly focus on the story. While combat isn’t as challenging in this mode, Matt Holland – senior combat designer for Baldur’s Gate 3 – has previously described the game’s battles as “a puzzle for players to solve” so you’ll need to keep strategy in mind no matter the difficulty. For players who would prefer to focus on the story, Explorer mode is a great option. This mode is more of a narrative experience where players will have to worry less about combat. As well as easier battles in Explorer mode, trader prices will be discounted and characters will automatically receive an additional +2 to their proficiency at the start of the game. Tactician mode is the perfect choice for anyone looking for a tougher playthrough. Enemies will have increased AC and hit points in Tactician mode battles, as well as stronger weapons and ammo. Environments will also play a bigger role in Tactician mode with the developers changing up some of the stages to include more hazards like exploding barrels. Finally, Honour mode is the most punishing difficulty in Baldur’s Gate 3. It ramps up the challenge even more by introducing a permadeath system. If your entire party is wiped out in Honour mode your save file will be deleted, and you only get access to a single save file throughout your run. Due to this, we’d suggest only trying Honour mode out if you’re already a seasoned BG3 player. While the permadeath may be brutal, it creates even more replayability if you’re up for the challenge!
