YouTuber Arekkz Gaming finds Thor’s Hammer in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Dexerto
YouTuber Arekkz Gaming finds Thor’s Hammer in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla UbisoftAssassin’s Creed Valhalla lets players live out their Viking fantasies, so it makes sense that one of the most iconic weapons makes an appearance. Here’s how you can obtain Thor’s hammer. Ubisoft’s latest open-world game is less about stealth and more about brute force – after all, Vikings aren’t exactly known for their subtlety. From gigantic two-handed swords to the lightning-fast slashes of the one-handed axe, there’s a weapon for every kind of playstyle. Of course, just like previous Assassin’s Creed games, some are much more powerful than others. One of the most lethal weapons in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is none other than Thor’s hammer, which has been found by YouTuber Arekkz Gaming. This thunder-infused hammer doesn’t just look incredibly cool, it’s devastatingly powerful. If you wish to add Mjolnir to your arsenal and wield the power of the gods, then make sure you follow the guide below. How to find Thor’s armor In order to wield Thor’s mighty hammer for yourself, you’ll first need to get your hands on his armor. Killing three witches will drop a piece of Thor’s armor and a dagger, which you will need if you wish to get Mjolnir. The three witches can be found in the following locations: Found in East Anglia just northwest of the Ruined Tower. – Found on the west side of East Anglia in the Berkelow Bog. – Found in the northern section of Grantebridgescire in Spalda Fens. – Once you have killed all three witches and secured their three daggers, it’s time to head back over to East Anglia. There is a crypt on the eastern side of the map (directly west of the Yare River). Head to this location and enter the small building. Simply insert each of the three daggers into the statue at the back of the crypt. This will give you access to the hidden room and enable you to claim Thor’s Helmet. The last piece of Thor’s armor requires you to do an endgame piece of content, so be aware of the heavy spoilers below. The final piece of Thor’s armor can be claimed by killing every single target in the Order menu. Simply follow the clues under each target to find out where each one can be located. As soon as you’ve killed each of the Order’s targets, head back over to your settlement and turn in all the medallions over to the Hidden Ones Bureau. Hytham will reward you with the final piece of Thor’s armor, allowing you to finally wield Thor’s mighty hammer. Thor’s hammer location Before you can equip Thor’s hammer, make sure you equip each piece of the god’s armor. Mjolnir can be found in Norway in the Hordafylke section of the map. Head northeast and travel to the very top of the ice-capped mountain. Once at the top, you’ll find Thor’s hammer hidden amongst some rocks, so make sure you keep your eye out for this weapon when you’ve made it to the top of the mountain. Simply interact with the legendary hammer to begin wielding this godly hammer and crush your enemies with deadly lightning-based attacks. Mjolnir has the following stats: Atk: 130 – Stun: 166 – Wgt: 10 – Spd: 44 – Crit-Pre: 95 – Every hit has a chance to stun all enemies around you, making it an extremely powerful weapon when dual wielding. Meanwhile, Thor’s armor has a set bonus that increases speed whenever you stun an enemy and increases the stun duration, so be sure to make use of this god’s powerful gear as you journey across England. Does Assassin’s Creed Mirage have microtransactions? – Dexerto
Does Assassin’s Creed Mirage have microtransactions? UbisoftAssassin’s Creed Mirage is being viewed as a reboot of sorts for Ubisoft’s famous franchise. While the development team is ringing various changes, are they steering away from microtransactions? What was once a bizarre concept is now very much the norm — microtransactions. Optional, in-game purchases with real money. Assassin’s Creed hasn’t steered clear of them it’s fair to say, and the series is most definitely not alone in this regard. With Assassin’s Creed Mirage going back to the drawing board with regard to its gameplay and approach, many are wondering if Ubisoft has re-examined the use of microtransactions in the game. Basim represents the start of a new journey for AC, but does the game have microtransactions? Does Assassin’s Creed Mirage have microtransactions? Assassin’s Creed Mirage does have microtransactions. Ubisoft has made it very clear though that any extras pertaining to microtransactions are purely cosmetic only. In previous games, players have had the option to influence their gameplay by buying XP boosters and various other tidbits of this nature. The devs actually addressed this topic in a statement to TrueAchievements prior to the game’s launch: “Assassin’s Creed Mirage will feature some cosmetic bundles that will be purchasable directly on first-party stores at launch. These will be optional and have no impact on player progression.” So, you can enjoy a complete Assassin’s Creed Mirage journey devoid of microtransactions if you desire. Understandably, Ubisoft makes a fair bit of extra money on the side through this, so it’s not a surprise to see them carry on using them. Where to find the Hrafn Guard Light Shield in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Dexerto
Where to find the Hrafn Guard Light Shield in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla UbisoftWhile the average foot soldier may not pose a threat in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you’ll need to exercise a little extra caution against the game’s tougher enemies. Here’s how you find the rare Hrafn Guard Light Shield and bolster your defense. In order to increase your survivability in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and avoid a grizzly death, it’s sometimes best to avoid unleashing an all-out attack. If you’re after a more defensive approach to combat, then you’ll want to add the Hrafn Guard shield to your collection. This shield is just light enough to keep you on your toes, while also still remaining extremely robust. Whether you’re struggling to survive against the Anglo-Saxon hordes or the numerous fantasy creatures that inhabit the land, you want to increase your defense. To help aid you in your plundering, we’ve put together a guide that will show you how you can get your hands on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s rare Hrafn Guard shield. How to find the Hrafn Guard shield In order to add this stalwart shield to your collection, you’ll first need to travel to Venonis (Southern point of Ledecestrescire). Once you have fast traveled to this location, simply head over to the ruin directly in front of you. The door to the building is locked, so you’ll need to head around the back instead. There’s actually a knack to opening the doors in this part, too. There’s a few enemies to fend off at the ruins, so it’s important that you enter the building not only with plenty of healing items but also arrows for your bow. To make things as easy as possible, we’ll do a step-by-step guide for you. Visit Venonis in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. – Walk up to the main ruins, and enter via the back entrance. – Get onto the roof on the right side of the building. – Walk across the tightrope, and zipwire to the next vantage point. – Pull out your arrow and shoot the lock off the door. – Open the door, attack the enemies, and climb up to their position afterwards. – Destroy the wooden posts and claim your Hrafn Guard shield. – The Hrafn Guard Shield has the following stats: Atk: 48 – Block: 37 – Crit-Pre: 45 – Spd: 49 – Stun: 65 – Wgt: 12 – Equipping the Hrafn Guard will increase your speed when blocking up to a total of five times. This makes this light shield incredibly useful for when you need that extra defense boost, and is handy to have in combat. For more Assassin’s Creed Valhalla news and guides, stick with Dexerto.

Where to find rare Huntsman Helm in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Dexerto
Where to find rare Huntsman Helm in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla UbisoftAssassin’s Creed Valhalla’s world is filled with toothy terrors and bloodthirsty Vikings, so you’ll need the best gear if you wish to survive. Here’s where you can find the rare Huntsman Helm. As you brawl and loot your way through the damp landscapes of Anglo-Saxon England, you’ll come across a wealth of items. However, not every weapon and armor piece you find in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be of use to you. In fact, the game’s best gear invariably requires a little extra work to find. As a result, acquiring rare loot can be a rather tricky affair, especially if you’re busily cutting through all the side quests and story quests. Fortunately, this guide will show you how you can get your hands on one of Valhalla’s most sturdy armor pieces – the Huntsman Helm. How to find the Huntsman Helm In order to claim this handy helm as your prize, you’ll first want to travel to Tonnastadir. Once you have fast traveled to this location, simply begin running over to the cave section of the map. This cavern is surrounded by wooden walls and is guarded by three mercenaries. Quickly dispatch the two archers at the back to avoid taking any chip damage, then focus on the axe wielder. Other Tonnastadir mercenaries may join in the fight if you’ve been caught running towards this location, so you’ll need to defeat them as well. When you’ve finally finished cutting down your foes, simply open the locked door and slide down the slope into the cavern below. At the very end of the cave, there will be a golden chest. Open the chest to claim the Huntsman Helm. The Huntsman Helm has the following stats: Arm: 24 – L-Res: 21 – Wgt: 13 – Eva: 12 – H-Res: 21 – Equipping the full Huntsman set will increase your ranged damage when hitting enemies further than 20m away, while also adding an increase to speed. This makes the Huntsman a decent set for those that like to take out their enemies with ranged attacks.

Ubisoft’s best pirate game is 70% off at Humble – Dexerto
Ubisoft’s best pirate game is 70% off at Humble Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag – Gold Edition is on sale, which after the release of Skull & Bones, might give you the sea-faring adventure you want. Ubisoft’s Skull & Bones has not been well received. The naval multiplayer game has been in development hell for nearly a decade and didn’t make a splash. However, all hope is not lost. The company’s backbone, Assassin’s Creed, is here to save the day. Black Flag was released at a weird time in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Coming off the back of the divisive third game, and splitting from the normal formula, Black Flag introduced a new stalwart to the series: sailing. If you’ve ever had the sea shanties stuck in your head from the action RPG era, this is the game to blame. The sailing is so smoothly integrated into the wider Assassin’s Creed loop, that it’s rarely been topped. The Gold Edition of Black Flag comes with the following bonuses: Season Pass – Captain Kenway’s Legacy Pack – The Trove of Mystery Pack – Pirates Bounty Pack – Sacrificed Secrets Pack – Hidden Mystery Pack – Black Island Pack – Aveline Pack – Entire Assassin’s Creed franchise gets significant discounts at Humble For the next week, Humble’s Give Me Shelter deal brings dozens of games down to much lower prices. Alongside Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, it seems the entire series is also on sale. The game redeems on Ubisoft’s own launcher, so be sure not to try to add it to your Steam library. Currently, the game is included in the Ubisoft+ subscription. To get that, it’ll cost $17.99 a month. While more expensive, if you want to dip in and out of different titles, it might be the way to sail. If you click on a product link on this page we may earn a small affiliate commission.

Ubisoft teams up with Netflix for a new Assassin’s Creed app game and TV series – Dexerto
Ubisoft teams up with Netflix for a new Assassin’s Creed app game and TV series Ubisoft / NetflixUbisoft announced it’s teaming up with Netflix to develop a new Assassin’s Creed series as well as a mobile game for the platform. The Ubisoft Forward digital event showcased a lot of new updates for various upcoming titles, including Skull & Bones and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. However, the most substantial updates came towards the end of the presentation when Ubisoft revealed five new Assassin’s Creed titles in the works. One of those titles came with a tease for a new Assassin’s Creed mobile game being developed for Netflix, as well as a live-action series. Ubisoft partners with Netflix Assassin’s Creed’s Executive Producer Marc-Alexis Côté showed up to give some details about Ubisoft’s upcoming collaboration with the streaming platform. Côté confirmed that a new mobile game is in development for Netflix’s “platform.” Unfortunately, those were the only details Côté was able to divulge about the mobile game, but it seems that it will be heavily connected to Netflix itself, likely through the use of its phone app. Ubisoft has ventured into the mobile game territory with Assassin’s Creed before, with 2018’s mobile strategy RPG Assassin’s Creed Rebellion. Of course, it remains to be seen what lessons the team has taken away from that foray into the mobile space. For mobile users, skip to 1:53:35 in the video to find the relevant information. As for the TV Show, details remain sparse about the upcoming series, but Côté revealed that the company is co-developing the series with Netflix and showrunner Jeb Stuart. Movie buffs will likely recognize Stuart as the writer of the 1988 action blockbuster Die Hard and 1993’s The Fugitive. Additionally, Côté said the series will be an “epic, genre-bending, live-action adaptation of [Ubisoft’s] video game series. Despite Netflix itself revealing this live-action Assassin’s Creed series two years ago, Côté said the series is still “early in development.” Hopefully, fans won’t have to wait too much longer to see what Ubisoft and Netflix have in store for the Assassin’s Creed series.

Ubisoft says pop-up ads in Assasin’s Creed Mirage were a “technical error” – Dexerto
Ubisoft says pop-up ads in Assasin’s Creed Mirage were a “technical error” UbisoftA three-second advertisement that appears while accessing the pause menu has caused consternation among players despite claims from Ubisoft that this was merely a “technical error.” The issue initially came to light on the Xbox forum as one user posted a video capture of their attempt to access the map in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Before they could, they were served a pop-up showing Assassin’s Creed Mirage was available for a 20% discount. Players also confirmed that they were served the same advertisement while playing the game on PlayStation. Whether this issue occurred in other games is unclear, but many were keen to speculate on why this might have happened in the first place. In a statement to The Verge, Ubisoft quickly denied that the pop-up was anything other than a mistake, saying a “technical error” caused the ad to appear. Players skeptical of Ubisoft’s “technical error” explanation A spokesperson for the company, Fabien Darrigues, said: “We have been made aware that some players encountered pop-up ads while playing certain Assassin’s Creed titles yesterday. This was the result of a technical error that we addressed as soon as we learned of the issue.” Many were very skeptical of the official statement, instead postulating that this was the company testing the waters to gauge fan response. One pointed out that, from a technical standpoint, this is a problematic explanation to agree with, saying: “Ah yes. An ‘error’ that just so happened to be programmed into the game to appear.” Another added it would be enough to stop them playing entirely, saying: “If this becomes a reality and the norm I will stop gaming. As an escape from daily life, a way of relaxing, calming my mind and pure fun this would shatter that illusion. No, just no.” It is also worth noting here that Ubisoft is a significant investor in French technology start-up Gadsme, which specializes in in-game advertising. At the time of writing, Ubisoft has at least $8 million tied up in the venture, but whether this issue is directly connected to that investment remains unclear. In any case, fan response to the potential new direction for advertising has been overwhelmingly negative. Whether this will be enough to make companies think twice about doing the same in the future is another thing entirely.

Ubisoft reveals five Assassin’s Creed games in development, including long-awaited Japan-set title – Dexerto
Ubisoft reveals five Assassin’s Creed games in development, including long-awaited Japan-set title UbisoftUbisoft’s Assassin’s Creed celebration event revealed that five new titles are in development for the franchise, alongside cross-media projects and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla DLC. As part of Assassin’s Creed’s 15th Anniversary celebration, Ubisoft has revealed multiple games in the franchise, while also providing additional context to Assassin’s Creed Infinity. The franchise’s next entry, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, will be a story that goes “back to the roots of the franchise”, Ubisoft revealed, both in setting and mechanics. Mirage, which follows Valhalla’s Basim two decades before the start of that game, will chart the new protagonist’s rise from street thief to assassin apprentice as part of the Hidden Ones and onward. The game will be set in Baghdad, and will focus on “black box” assassination missions with the option to set traps and use the environment, as well as faster, more agile parkour and an increased focus on stealth. Assassin’s Creed’s next five games have been revealed Following on from Mirage, Ubisoft has revealed another four titles in the series coming in the next few years. Ubisoft Quebec, who developed the critically acclaimed Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, is working on Codename Red. The title will take place in Feudal Japan in what Ubisoft is calling its next “premium” open-world RPG title for the franchise. Codename Hexe is being developed by the Valhalla team and is being led by industry legend Clint Hocking. Given Hocking’s work on titles like Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, it appears Hexe could be another more stealth-focused title. Two mobile games are also in development for the franchise. The first, Codename Jade, is set in Ancient China in 215 BCE. It will feature a character creation suite and will be an open-world mobile title. The second is being developed with Netflix for its mobile game division, but no more details were revealed. Ubisoft also revealed more news about Project Infinity. The project, which had been expected to form a games-as-a-service title, will be closer to a hub that brings the franchise into one place. During the stream, it was also revealed that Ubisoft is investigating the potential for standalone multiplayer experiences within Infinity. Also revealed was an Assassin’s Creed documentary coming to Netflix in the coming months, and a new DLC quest chain for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. The free update, fittingly called ‘The Last Chapter’ will tie up a series of unresolved storylines for Eivor and lead them into meetings with historical figures.

Ubisoft reportedly remaking Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag – Dexerto
Ubisoft reportedly remaking Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag UbisoftUnnamed sources have reportedly confirmed that Ubisoft is working on a remake of 2013’s Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. Ubisoft is still set on keeping the Assassin’s Creed franchise going strong, with multiple projects in the works for release in 2023 and beyond. Fans know that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set to release on October 12, 2023, while projects like Assassin’s Creed Infinity and Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade are still on the horizon. However, it seems Ubisoft may be dipping back into the older games, as recent reports claim the publisher is working on a remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. Ubisoft may be working on Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake The reports come by way of Kotaku, which received word from two unnamed sources that a remake of 2013’s Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag was in the very early stages of development. According to these two sources, the game will not be complete for “at least a few years” and that Ubisoft Singapore will be heavily involved in bringing the 10-year-old title back into the modern age. As many Assassin’s Creed fans know, the franchises’ gameplay style has changed a fair bit over the years, with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Valhalla marking big departures from the series’ roots. In particular, Odyssey and Valhalla incorporated many elements of the role-playing genre, such as divergent Skill Trees, a new loot system, and a focus on in-your-face combat over stealth. While Black Flag introduced new gameplay elements like underwater exploration and an emphasis on ship combat through the upgradeable Jackdaw, it still stuck to the series’ roots in stealth. Additionally, it’s hard to ignore that Black Flag’s ship combat seemed like a heavy inspiration for Ubisoft’s Skull & Bones, which has been delayed time and time again now. However, these early reports seem to imply this Black Flag remake will release much later than Skull & Bones, provided it does not suffer yet another delay. For now, fans will just have to wait for more details.

Ubisoft reportedly delays Assassin’s Creed: Rift to 2023 – Dexerto
Ubisoft reportedly delays Assassin’s Creed: Rift to 2023 UbisoftUbisoft has decided to delay their upcoming small-scale stealth title Assassin’s Creed: Rift until spring next year. After an initial proposal to be a Valhalla expansion, Assassin’s Creed: Rift later branched out to be a standalone game. Set in the Middle East around Baghdad, it will feature Basim from the latest game as one of the main characters. But Ubisoft has now made the decision to push back the game’s release date along with the likes of Avatar Frontiers of Pandora. Assassin’s Creed: Rift will now release in mid 2023 Ubisoft has pushed Assassin’s Creed: Rift’s release window from February next year to the second quarter, meaning it should be released around May or June. According to Bloomberg, a person familiar with the company’s plans stated the reason for the delay being the game is running far behind schedule. On July 22, 2022, Ubisoft held its Q1 fiscal year 2023 call. In it, they announced the delay of a “smaller unannounced premium title” which is none other than the upcoming Assassin’s Creed title. Rift is currently in development by Ubisoft’s studio in Bordeaux and is expected to release before Assassin’s Creed Infinity. As we mentioned earlier, Avatar Frontiers of Pandora also met with the same fate. It was supposed to release alongside the upcoming film sequel but has now been postponed. This means we’ll get to see only two major releases from Ubisoft this year. This includes Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope and Skull & Bones which will be released later in the fourth quarter. Ubisoft Forward also returns in a couple of months. Around the same timeline, they’re looking to celebrate the franchise’s 15th anniversary. We can expect to hear more about Rift’s delay in either of these two events. Ubisoft also reportedly canceled Roller Champions after failing to secure a substantial player base across the world. Ubisoft officially reveals Assassin’s Creed Mirage following artwork leak – Dexerto
Ubisoft officially reveals Assassin’s Creed Mirage following artwork leak UbisoftUbisoft has treated fans to an official Assassin’s Creed Mirage reveal following an artwork leak; more information will surface at Ubisoft Forward. Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which allegedly bore the codename of Rift, entered the public consciousness several months ago due to a Bloomberg report. According to the publication, the project began as DLC, then spawned into something greater with AC Valhalla’s Basim assuming the role of protagonist. Recent AC Mirage reports claim the adventure will take place late in 9th Century Baghdad during the Anarchy at Samarra period. And, apparently, this particular entry will set aside the brand’s RPG mechanics to revisit more basic gameplay systems from older installments. Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage reveal comes amid many leaks Earlier today, September 1, leaked images began circulating on the web that effectively confirmed the new Assassin’s Creed will indeed bear the Mirage subtitle. Ubisoft moved to take down as many of the leaked art pieces as possible with DMCA notices but the cat was already out of the bag. The publisher has since confirmed the game’s existence by unleashing official key art adorned with the Assassin’s Creed Mirage logo. Based on the artwork above, Mirage certainly looks as though it will take place in an Arabic locale. The Hidden Blade-wielding Assassin appears to be a young Basim Ibn Ishaq, too. Ubisoft plans to fully reveal Assassin’s Creed Mirage next week during its Ubisoft Forward stream. The broadcast will air on Saturday, September 10 at 12:00 PM PT. Details on what else will appear at the event remain unknown, though the publisher previously teased “never-before-seen news, gameplay, reveals, and more.” Still, it stands to reason that projects such as Skull & Bones, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, and the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake may feature in some capacity.

Ubisoft addresses Assassin’s Creed Black Flag’s Steam disappearance amid remake rumors – Dexerto
Ubisoft addresses Assassin’s Creed Black Flag’s Steam disappearance amid remake rumors UbisoftAssassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is currently unavailable on Steam, fueling recent rumors that the game is getting a remake. However, Ubisoft has provided the real reason. Steam users hoping to purchase Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag are currently out of luck, as the game is currently unavailable on the platform. That news along with rumors of a Black Flag remake circulating over the summer had fans wondering if an announcement was imminent. While a controversial practice, Ubisoft would be far from the first publisher to pull a game ahead of a rerelease. However, fans hoping to see the series revisit Edward Kenway and his pirate adventure will have to wait longer, as Ubisoft has confirmed Black Flag’s Steam availability is not a reason for speculation. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is unavailable because of a “technical issue” In a statement shared by Eurogamer, Black Flag’s availability is the result of a “technical issue” rather than an impending announcement. As Ubisoft told Eurogamer, “We are aware that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is currently unavailable for purchase on Steam. This is due to a technical issue, and our teams are working on a solution to bring it back as soon as possible.” This is a pretty clear sign that fans shouldn’t read into the situation, as it seems Black Flag will be back on Steam in the near future. Back in June, it was reported that an Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake was in early development from Ubisoft Singapore. The rumor excited fans, particularly those who prefer its gameplay style to those of the series’ more recent open-world RPGs. If a Black Flag remake is in the works, though, it probably won’t release for some time. Ubisoft Singapore is currently working on Skull and Bones, which currently does not have a release date following its latest delay in January 2023. Interestingly, Skull and Bones was inspired by Black Flag, so Ubisoft Singapore developing the remake would be a full circle moment. Still, fans have plenty to look forward to in the near future, including the mobile game Assassin’s Creed Jade and the release of Assassin’s Creed Mirage on October 5.

Teacher goes viral playing Assassin’s Creed in class to teach history – Dexerto
Teacher goes viral playing Assassin’s Creed in class to teach history TikTok/mrmahathey/UbisoftA middle school teacher’s unique strategy of using Assassin’s Creed to teach history is blowing up on social media and students absolutely love it. Being a teacher can be rough these days, especially with students always glued to their screens, so instead of sticking to textbooks, a teacher decided to change things up by bringing video games to class. Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise is filled with historical relevance, bringing players back in time to ancient Egypt, the American Revolution, Rome, and more. So, when it came time to talk about Greece, a grade 7 and 8 teacher whipped out his PlayStation. In a video going viral on TikTok, Social Studies teacher Mr Mahathey played Assassin’s Creed Odyssey to show off The Battle of Thermopylae. Middle school teacher uses Assassin’s Creed Odyssey to teach If you’ve ever seen 300, then you’re at least a little familiar with The Battle of Thermopylae where the Greeks battled the invading Persians and used the narrow pass to their defensive advantage. Mr Mahathey ended up showing off the location in the game, explaining to his students, “So, right there, that’s going to be the entrance to Thermopylae. That’s a very narrow passageway in order for the Persians and the Greeks to fight.” He even used the map to give students a visualization of where the Greeks would be stationed and how they had an edge in their defensive positioning. Users in the comments were very on board with this teaching style, praising Mahathey for taking advantage of the game’s historical accuracy. “The one thing Ubisoft gets right is the historical accuracy of the locations in their games,” one remarked. “That’s smart. I would 100 percent pay way more attention if my teacher did this,” said another. “I really like this idea. Especially since I am just finishing up the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey story,” encouraged someone else. “Great job!” So far, the clip has been viewed nearly 700,000 times with plenty of other commenters urging the teacher to upload the rest of the lesson just to see how it all played out.

Shroud finds hilarious and horrible bugs in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Dexerto
Shroud finds hilarious and horrible bugs in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Whilst streaming Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Shroud encountered some hilarious and game-breaking bugs, and it’s hard to deny how entertaining it was to watch. The release of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has arrived and content creators are playing the game across multiple platforms. Of course, as with any newly released title, Valhalla has its fair share of bugs and glitches on launch day that the developers will likely already be working on. While streaming Valhalla, Shroud experienced a number of these glitches himself, leaving his viewers with some great reactions. Despite these in-game issues being unintended, there’s no denying how entertaining it is to watch a hilarious bug occur on stream. Shroud encounters hilarious glitches on stream The first glitch revolves around a large chest that the other NPCs are supposed to help you open. However, unfortunately for Shroud, his Viking companions didn’t fancy lending him a hand. It’s fair to say there is no chance you’re getting that chest open on your own. The fact that the chest is made of solid gold just adds insult to injury, and you can tell Shroud just wants to grab the loot and go. Shroud encountered the next glitch while swimming in a deep pool that led into a patch of darkness. Unfortunately, that patch happened to lead Shroud underneath the map while his character continued to move in the swimming animation. Although game-breaking glitches like this can be an issue for some players, it’s always hilarious to see a streamer encounter one. The fact that Shroud is swimming under the map just adds the icing on the cake for the clip. All jokes aside, this is definitely a bug that Ubisoft will need to patch before other players start abusing it. Finally, Shroud enters a cave assuming it’s an explorable area and soon realizes he’s not meant to be there. It’s safe to say when you see a black untextured wall in a game this stunning, you’re probably not meant to be there. You have to respect Shroud for pushing past the black wall, even if it meant he fell through the map. It never gets boring seeing streamers run into these game-breaking bugs. The reactions are always gold and they definitely add something to a play-through when they’re not regularly occurring. In the meantime, Ubisoft might need to push out a couple of patches before everyone accidentally stumbles into the wrong cave.

Shroud explains why Assassin’s Creed Valhalla isn’t his game of the year – Dexerto
Shroud explains why Assassin’s Creed Valhalla isn’t his game of the year Ubisoft, shroudWith the hype around Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla at an all-time high, gamers across the world are debating whether or not it’s worthy of being called game of the year. Shroud, however, isn’t convinced. [jwplayer JHqOrq6e] With Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla finally dropping earlier in November, the gaming universe has went wild. The newest instalment of the popular franchise has been a while in the making, and for a lot of fans it’s some welcome respite to a turbulent 2020. Across the board critics and gamers have praised the game’s beautiful graphics and masterful storytelling, sparking discussion as to whether or not the game might be the best to be released this calendar year. Former CSGO pro player Shroud has now given his two cents, as to whether or not he thinks the game should be made game of the year. Shroud not convinced Valhalla deserves game of the year While he was playing Valhalla on Twitch, one member of the chat pressed him on the idea. As soon as he saw the message, though, he said: “No, absolutely not” whilst laughing off the comment. He describes the direction of the game as being “cash money”, stating that “the direction of the game isn’t to like, polish everything, be perfect, make sure all the lipsyncs are good, make sure all the animations are good” He goes on to state that the devs could easily achieve a better game experience, but that just ” isn’t the name of this game – the name of this game is to get something out there relatively quickly that people can spend hundreds of hours on.” Instead, he cites God of War and Cyberpunk 2077 as game of the year worth games, despite the fact that Cyberpunk ‘isn’t even out yet’. Shroud’s experience of the game has hardly been overwhelmingly positive, as the popular streamer discovered a hilarious collection of bugs and glitches while playing. Though, even those he decided to laugh off while playing, and that’s why people watch him – the unpredictable moments. While it may sound cynical, it appears that there’s a good bit of logic to shroud’s statement. Maybe as he progresses further into the game he’ll change his mind, but currently he’s determined that the idea of Valhalla as game of the year is laughable.

Next Assassin’s Creed reportedly drops RPG style & returns to basics – Dexerto
Next Assassin’s Creed reportedly drops RPG style & returns to basics UbisoftA new leak claims the next Assassin’s Creed game will abandon RPG elements from recent installments and return to the franchise’s basics. Rumors about the next Assassin’s Creed entry have circulated for months on end. According to a Bloomberg report from earlier in the year, AC Valhalla’s Basim will star in the new installment. The title reportedly codenamed Rift will take place in Baghdad if other uncorroborated reports prove accurate. Ubisoft has yet to officially detail its plans for this alleged interstitial release, however. With Ubisoft’s promise to unveil the “future of Assassin’s Creed” in an upcoming September event, it should come as no surprise that a fresh batch of rumors and leaks have begun to circulate. Next Assassin’s Creed game reportedly ditches RPG mechanics A report from reliable Assassin’s Creed leaker and YouTuber j0nathan (via Rebs Gaming) indicates the project formerly known as AC Rift will carry the name of Mirage upon release. J0nathan claims Baghdad will indeed serve as Mirage’s setting, allegedly taking place years before AC Valhalla between 860 and 870 during the Anarchy at Samarra period. Players can expect to assume the role of a young Basim, who operates as a thief prior to joining the Hidden Ones. Apparently, the role-playing mechanics introduced in Origins will take a backseat, eschewing features such as dialogue choices and the leveling system. Supposedly, traditional AC elements will return to the fore, with Mirage being heavily influenced by the original 2007 adventure. The leaker also says the next Assassin’s Creed game should release sometime in the spring of 2023. Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier cast doubt on a few of j0nathan’s other details, though. For one, the YouTuber alleges Mirage will play host to multiple explorable cities. Someone familiar with Ubisoft’s operations told Schreier this is inaccurate. In addition, the journalist thinks talk of an Assassin’s Creed 1 remake launching in a Season Pass for Mirage – akin to AC3 Remastered’s inclusion in Odyssey – “seems dubious.” But Schreier’s source did insist that parts of j0nathan’s information are true, including the new name, release window, Baghdad setting, and return to basics motif. If Assassin’s Creed Mirage does indeed return the series to its more basic structure, it couldn’t do so at a better time. This year marks the long-running franchise’s 15th anniversary, after all. Hopefully, Ubisoft’s special plans for an Assassin’s Creed reveal in September will finally clear up confusion about where the history-hopping brand is headed next.

Leaked Assassin’s Creed Jade mobile gameplay is much better than fans expected – Dexerto
Leaked Assassin’s Creed Jade mobile gameplay is much better than fans expected Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: ChinaGameplay footage for Assassin’s Creed Jade has been leaked, complete with a sequence taking place on the Great Wall of China and a look at how the game plays on mobile. Assassin’s Creed has been around for almost two decades at this point, with the franchise being taken all around the world in many different time periods across its vast library of titles. Many more locations and time periods for new titles were revealed at once, with China being one of the locations that would host a new AC title. While the franchise has visited China before with Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China, the next game in the series has been leaked with almost three minutes’ worth of gameplay footage being posted online. Footage showed off a visually impressive sequence where the player navigated the Great Wall of China, with visually impressive set pieces being marred a bit by the person playing struggling with the mobile controls. Assassin’s Creed Jade brings AC to mobile The gameplay demo had the player in the shoes of Dengling Bai, a warrior wielding dual swords, and featured him scaling the Great Wall of China as a village nearby burned to the ground. It featured parkour the likes of which the AC series is known, some combat, and even a cutscene. While the game is clearly in an early state—with most of the voice acting not even in the game yet—fans of the series were wowed by the visual fidelity of the title. Mobile thumb controls were on-screen, with the person playing having a hard time doing things like parkour and climbing an invisible wall when trying to zipline down from the Great Wall. Though the UI elements, combat, and even level progression system resembled newer Assassin’s Creed titles like Odyssey and Valhalla, it all appears to have been wrapped up into a mobile package. It remains to be seen whether or not this Assassin’s Creed title will be available outside of mobile devices with scalable graphics, similar to something like Genshin Impact. The game was initially announced as a mobile title, long before the leaked gameplay footage came to light. Despite the excitement for the game being stunted a bit by Jade being a mobile title, Assassin’s Creed fans still seemed very eager to see more of the game.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows director addresses dual protagonists, setting, more – Dexerto
Assassin’s Creed Shadows director addresses dual protagonists, setting, more UbisoftAssassin’s Creed Shadows is a wildly ambitious project with its dual protagonists, diverse gameplay styles, a narrative spanning multiple years across distinct regions, a full seasonal cycle, and plenty more nuance in between. It’s no small undertaking. To learn how Ubisoft even begins approaching a project of this magnitude, I sat down with the game’s director Charles Benoit to understand the herculean effort. When Assassin’s Creed first rose to prominence, the games weren’t necessarily known for being enormous timesinks. Sure, you could get a few dozen hours out of each installment, but things changed with the pivot to more action-oriented gameplay. Now, more recent entries can easily ask you to pump 60 hours in to even reach the credits, let alone see and do everything else. They’ve become gigantic in scope and Shadows looks to be another step further in that direction. Not only is the story an epic tale in its own right, following the rise and fall of daimyō Oda Nobunaga over a number of years, but in adding a second protagonist to the mix, Ubisoft has effectively doubled the experiences on offer. One serves as a more brutish style assassin, ensuring more recent fans of the series feel right at home with their action-packed gameplay, while the other is more elusive, remaining undetected and striking at the opportune moment, much like in the earlier iterations of Assassin’s Creed. Blending both together in a Japan on the verge of upheaval, it’s safe to say devs had to juggle an extraordinary number of plates to make it all click. In speaking with Shadows’ director Charles Benoit, we gleaned some insight as to how Ubisoft picks its battles, why now was the “perfect” time for a Feudal Japan story, and how the bold step of incorporating two protagonists keeps everyone on their toes. The mystery of Yasuke is “perfect” for Assassin’s Creed Ignoring the foolish controversy and focusing on what we actually know to be true, Yasuke was a prominent figure in Japan for at least a few years. Having arrived alongside Jesuit missionaries in 1579, it didn’t take long for the tall, dark-skinned man to turn heads. Locals had never seen anyone quite like Yasuke. Over the coming years, he’d separate from the Jesuits, taking up residence with Lord Oda Nobunaga, one of the most powerful men in the world at that point in time. However, what happened before his arrival and what happened after the demise of his leader, all remains a bit murky. Details begin to taper off after 1581, leaving plenty of gaps for imaginative storytellers to fill. It’s for this reason Ubisoft decided to make Yasuke one of the two protagonists, the first in AC history to be based on a real historical figure. The gaps in knowledge lend themselves wonderfully to the writer’s imagination. “[It’s] exactly why we picked this character, Benoit explained. “We know just a few things. We get to learn how this guy came to Japan and why, why Nobunaga was so interested. We know Nobunaga gave him a house, which means he was high in the social class, so that’s super interesting. The blanks we don’t know, it’s just perfect for the story we’re getting to tell.” As any experienced Assassin’s Creed fan knows all too well, while the games take place at epochal moments in time, portraying history’s most iconic figures, Ubisoft is never afraid to veer off the rails a little and get adventurous. If you’re here for a completely accurate retelling of the events of Iga’s demise, Nobunaga’s phasing out of the Shogun, and his eventual betrayal, you’ve come to the wrong place. While certain elements of the real story will no doubt be represented, devs are ready to take some creative liberties once again with Shadows, and thanks to Yasuke’s mysterious background, they’re well within their right to do just that. “The fact Yasuke, we know just a few things and we can fill the blanks, it’s one of the reasons we wanted to use this character. We don’t want to stick as much as possible to true historical fact, but to give more leeway for us to tell the story we wanted to tell. It’s an Assassin’s Creed, there’s always something we want to tell about the Brotherhood.” Naoe’s fictional yet grounded entry into Feudal Japan On the other side of the coin, Naoe enters Shadows as a fictional character. Unlike Yasuke, Naoe is a completely original character from the minds of Ubisoft’s devs. However, that’s not to say she has no place among the real-world events. Grounding her to some degree, Naoe is the fictional daughter of Fujibiyashi Nagato, a very real figure in Japanese history, having led a batch of ninjas during the turbulent 16th century. This dichotomy, put simply, is “perfect” for the type of story Ubisoft is hoping to tell in the new Assassin’s Creed title. Having these two polar opposites coming together gives “leeway” for the writers to push their story in any direction without having to constantly check the facts to make sure they’re mirroring the complete recorded history. Separated to begin with, Benoit detailed how players will need to get familiar with both protagonists before the events of 1579-1581 truly get underway. But what exactly brings them together? Why do they align their efforts when they’re committed to different causes? It’s this narrative freedom that looks set to take newcomers to Japanese history and scholars alike on an exhilarating ride. Expanding the scope of Shadows with two protagonists After a few hours of getting to know both Yasuke and Naoe, the choice is ultimately yours on who you’d like to continue playing as. While freely able to swap between the two while not locked in a mission, you may quickly favor one or the other, depending on your favorite flavor of Assassin. Prefer the stealthy, more tactical approach? Naoe is the one for you. Rather make a scene and intimidate your foes with incomprehensible strength? Yasuke is the hulking samurai for the job. The former all but representing the classic style, the latter reflecting more contemporary iterations. Curiously, I wondered if it was possible for a player to exclusively focus on one or the other through an entire playthrough. While technically, it’s not feasible as some missions force you to control the other character, other missions involve teaming up and swapping on a dime. But having a ‘main,’ so to speak, is something the devs are acutely aware of. They just don’t expect anyone to be all too interested when both protagonists are equally skilled in their respective disciplines. “At first you need to play a bit of both, learn who they are and why they are aligned. Then you can play both, or just one or the other. It’s your choice,” Benoit assured. “It could happen, but the way we made them, it’s not that they can’t do one or the other’s gameplay, it’s just that they are super competitive in one of their fields. If you want to fight with Naoe, it’s possible. If you want to stealth with Yasuke, it’s possible, Certainly people will have a preferred character, but I feel they will want to switch.” Sweeting the deal, I was able to confirm just how the game’s progression systems work. If you’ve just spent 15 hours straight with Yasuke, does that leave Naoe in the dust, severely under-levelled, underequipped, and unprepared for what comes next? Not at all. Thankfully, devs have ensured progression carries across both protagonists where it makes sense. On the surface level, progression is mostly related to the weapons you take into battle. As the two characters wield different types of weapons, they have their own unique skill trees to progress. But as you advance with either character, all experience is shared across both. For instance, let’s say during your 15-hour run with Yasuke you level up enough to have five skill points at the ready. Yasuke is able to invest those skill points into his giant melee weapons, unlocking new proficiencies as a result. But swap over to Naoe for a moment, and you’ll be pleased to know she also has five skill points waiting to be used. So no matter how you play, there will never be a point where one “feels dragged behind the other.” Not to mention, loot is also shared across both protagonists, so Yasuke can find new gear for Naoe while out adventuring, and vice versa. “So if you play 10 hours with one, there’s a lot of new stuff to play around with when you swap to the other,” Benoit explained. New technologies turn the tide Clearing up a few outlying details, I also questioned the game’s director on how big a role firearms might play in Shadows. We know for certain they were pivotal in Japan’s war at the time, as Portuguese traders introduced the devastating weapons to help shift momentum in the ongoing conflict. As it turns out, firearms are indeed a core part of Shadows but do temper your expectations. While Yasuke can wield a gun, of sorts, the very first version, known then as the arquebus, is far from an ideal piece of kit. One lethal shot is all you get before having to stop what you’re doing and reload the old-fashioned way. Though the same can be said for enemies wielding guns too. Avoid their first shot and you might be able to close the distance without a threat. Beyond firearms, it’s also documented how Nobunaga invested much of his wealth in some of the world’s first ironclad ships. The first of their kind to grace Japanese shores, their stature dazzled the locals while their near-impenetrable hull struck fear in any who dared to challenge them. Not only that, but we know thanks to the Jesuit missionaries and the Portuguese traders, just how vital transportation across oceans was back then. You wouldn’t be crazy to think perhaps we set sail once again in another Assassin’s Creed title, though Benoit confirmed that’s not the case here. “We have a ship you can see, you can go on the ship, we also have a ship that goes around in the country because a lot of trades were done. You can use this ship to travel. But the fact our map is really centered on land and mountains, it didn’t make sense to focus on this big, open sea area. We really focused on land.” So while some of these historically accurate ships will indeed be present, don’t expect to be singing any form of sea shanty and engaging in piracy this time around.

But haven’t you wondered what it would be like to be shadowed by a pigeon instead? Now you can, here is how to turn your trusty raven into a pigeon in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. It’s not quite Odin’s raven, but Eivor’s is a necessity for the journey. Synin is excellent at scouting locations and covering the area you’re in from up high. Not only that, but Synin can be customized to suit your preferences of how a Raven should look like. Perhaps like a pigeon? Because that is entirely possible. In the same way that the recent Assassin’s Creed games have featured flaming demon horses and unicorn-camels, Valhalla has a pigeon. Here is how you can turn your raven into an amusing pigeon in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. How to turn Synin into a pigeon This isn’t one of those life-changing alterations that will make you a God at Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, but it’s still pretty funny. How to reduce notoriety in Assassin’s Creed Mirage – Dexerto
How to reduce notoriety in Assassin’s Creed Mirage UBISOFTThroughout your time in Assassin’s Creed Mirage you’ll need to keep an eye on your notoriety as it attracts a lot of unwanted attention, so here’s exactly how to reduce your notoriety in the latest Assassin’s Creed title. Assassin’s Creed Mirage features a unique system: kill too many foes, and you’ll attract unwanted attention. Your notoriety is divided into three tiers, viewable on your screen’s bottom right, and the game keeps you informed about it. You do not want to remain at full notoriety, especially in the early game when you are fairly weak. This will be because you will pretty much lose your freedom as any enemy that notices you will start chasing. Assassin’s Creed Mirage: How to reduce notoriety Reducing notoriety in Assassin’s Creed Mirage is fairly simple. There are two methods you can follow to make this possible: Remove 3 posters from walls around the city – Visit a Munadi and clear your name in exchange for a Power Token – Kill Shakiriyya after reaching Notoriety Level 3 – The first method is a bit tedious as you will have to spend time searching for the posters. These show up as markers on the top end of your screen, but it can be hard to notice. However, once you remove the posters, you will be clean again. The second method to remove notoriety is by visiting a Munadi. However, for this, you will need Power Tokens, which need some work to come by. You will need to complete contracts, which is arguably the easiest way to obtain them. The third method is only applicable if you’ve reached the max level of Notoriety. The game spawns an Elite Shakiriyya guard with devastating moves who will relentlessly pursue you. Once you’ve defeated the Shakiriyya, Notoriety levels will fall to normal levels. All these methods have their pros and cons, but the second one is arguably the fastest. This is because it might happen when you are trying to remove a poster and get noticed by a guard. In that case, you will have to run around until you disappear from sight. This concludes our guide on how to remove notoriety in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. How to get tattoos in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Dexerto
How to get tattoos in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla UbisoftEivor can be kitted out with all kinds of deadly weapons, hardy armor, and rugged hairstyles. However, one of the more prominent customization features in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s is that of body tattoos. The majority of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s grizzly Vikings have some form of tattoo that is emblazoned upon their body. Not only do these ink-stained symbols look incredibly cool, but they also help distinguish Eivor from the other clans and Viking hordes. As you journey through the frozen Fjords and fight your way across England, you’ll have the opportunity to add to your tattoo collection. Tattoos can be added to Eivor’s head, arms, chest, and back. While many of these symbols will likely be covered up by your armor, they are a great addition all the same. If you’re currently looking to add a little ink to your Viking skin, then be sure to check out our Assassin’s Creed Valhalla tattoo guide. How to get tattoos After you’ve beaten the introductory mission and escaped from the clutches of Kjotve the Cruel, you’ll be tasked with sailing back to Fornburg. This rocky outcrop is Eivor’s home and it’s here where you can upgrade your equipment, partake in minigames, accept side quests, and search the surrounding mountains for treasure. However, you’ll need to talk to Svend if you wish to grab yourself a gnarly tattoo. Svend’s tattoo hut can be hard to miss, so look for the big hut that has a figure-eight sign outside of its doors. Once you’ve found the hut, simply walk in and take a look at Svend’s wares. It doesn’t cost a penny to customize Eivor’s looks and you can choose from the following tattoo options: Head – Arms – Chest – Back – Once you leave Norway and journey to England, you’ll be able to set up your own settlement and gain access to even more tattoos. Purchasing a hut for Svend will allow the master tattooist to continue his handiwork away from home, so make sure you prioritize building this shop if you wish to kit Eivor out with even more sleeves. You can also purchase new tattoos and cosmetics from the merchants that inhabit the game’s various towns. Of course, these can be rather costly and you’ll need to save up your silver if you wish to add them to your collection. How to get Assassin’s Creed Valhalla skill points & unlock abilities fast – Dexerto
How to get Assassin’s Creed Valhalla skill points & unlock abilities fast Eivor’s attributes and strengths can be upgraded with skill points as players progress through the game. However, in order to gain these skill points, players will need to collect XP from across the world to level-up. Upgrading and leveling up your character is a staple part of any open-world RPG. It’s key players continuously look to improve their character’s attributes and skills so they can progress efficiently through a game’s content. This is no different for the Viking world of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The game uses a skill point system that allows players to choose from 3 separate skill pathways to improve their character; these pathways are wolf, bear, and raven. Each offers beneficial perks for different playstyles, whether that’s the typical hand-hand combat of a Viking or the stealthy gameplay of an assassin. Let’s check out how to obtain skill points fast and how to upgrade your abilities in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. How to get Assassin’s Creed Valhalla skill points fast For starters, skills and abilities are two separate elements of progression in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Skills are leveled up through collecting XP and spending skill points. Whereas abilities are acquired through quests, exploration, and Books of Knowledge. For every level Eivor gains, a player will receive two skill points to spend. Therefore, in order to farm skills points, a player will need to maximize their XP gains while playing. There are few methods to accomplish this, one of which is progressing through the game’s story missions as fast as possible. Each of the game’s story missions provides players with a lot of XP, usually enough to gain a whole level. On top of this, players should hunt for the blue markers on the map which represent activities to complete. These should net you some quick and efficient skill points right away. Don’t forget to keep an eye for Standing Stones and loot chests, both of which will grant a generous amount of XP. In terms of abilities, these work a little differently. Players will need to explore the map looking for abilities as well as complete specific quests. Abilities can be unlocked through finding Books of Knowledge that are scattered across the world. If a player finds an ability that is similar to one they have already collected, it will upgrade the existing ability. The best way to collect all of the abilities is to progress through the game and make sure you’re exploring every inch of the world, essentially. Ubisoft has hidden some great loot and abilities in some unlikely places, so if you want to progress make sure you take advantage. How to change Eivor’s gender in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Dexerto
How to change Eivor’s gender in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla UbisoftGender is a smaller aspect in the grand scheme of a huge, open-world game like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, but people prefer to have control over their character and how they are portrayed. This guide will show you exactly how to pick and change it. [jwplayer JHqOrq6e] The ability to change gender is an important part of video game modernization. It shows how far we’ve come, and also highlights the need for complete customization of a character we’re going to be spending many hours with. The good news is that you’re not penalized for any decision that you come to. Therefore, you’re never left with a feeling of “what if?” Ubisoft simply wants to supply players with even more ways of tackling their new game. How to pick Eivor’s gender Lots of people have their own personal preferences and are accustomed to choosing a particular gender when prompted to. So naturally, you’d like the choice, and we can tell you how to accomplish that. Start up Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. – Hit Story and a cutscene will start up, where you will see Eivor as a child. – Pick one of three options: Male, Female, or “Let the ANIMUS choose.” – Once you have selected Male or Female, you’re still able to switch your character manually during the game. – If the player picks Let the ANIMUS choose, then the game will automatically switch between the genders at various points throughout the game automatically. How to change Eivor’s gender manually As we mentioned earlier, if you decide you want to keep things fresh, then you can always alter the gender yourself. Here’s how to do that. Pause your game. – Press up on the d-pad. – Choose your character’s gender. – There you go, hopefully, that’s a big help in managing your journey with Eivor. Will it affect your game? This is an adequate question to the game’s gender option, given the path that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey took. Ubisoft‘s previous game allowed players to choose either Kassandra or Alexios, which greatly influenced the narrative. Thankfully, unlike Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, whichever gender you pick won’t alter the game in any way. Because of how easily you can switch up the genders, it makes sense to not have the unassigned gender as a separate character, which is great as it eliminates the feeling of leaving content out and keeps the story simple. How to change difficulty in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Dexerto
How to change difficulty in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla UbisoftNo matter what game you play, there will always be some element of difficulty. Trying to find that balance can always be tricky. However, Ubisoft’s newest game has multiple settings that can drastically alter the way in which you play. So here is how to change the difficulty in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and what option might be best for you. [jwplayer JHqOrq6e] The default difficulty in the Assassin’s Creed games has risen a bit in recent years. External influences like the Souls games seem to be having a noticeable effect on certain titles and the way they handle. Assassin’s Creed is just one of the many games that have taken inspiration from FromSoftware’s combat-heavy series. As such, more combat means more enemies, and more enemies means more chance of being maimed. Not to mention the legendary fights against rare animals and mythical beasts too. So with difficulty being a more prominent factor in the gameplay, we thought we would single this aspect out. We will walk you through how to change the difficulty settings in AC Valhalla, and perhaps identify the most suitable ones. Difficulties and sub-difficulties Needless to say, the way in which Ubisoft is presenting difficulty in their new game is innovative for the series. Instead of having several standard, default levels that indicate their severity, there are now sub-options too. They are now split up into Combat, Stealth, and Exploration. Here is what you’ll find under each of these sub-categories. Combat Skald (Easy) – Vikingr (Default) – Berserkr (Hard) – Drengr (Very Hard) – Stealth Apprentice (Easy) – Assassin (Default) – Master Assassin (Hard) – Exploration Adventurer – Explorer (Default) – Pathfinder – How to change the difficulty Not all games make it clear from the outset how to change its settings. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a lot more forgiving and guides the player almost immediately. Start a new campaign – Select your difficulty levels – It really is that simple to start things off. However, as the game progresses, you may find yourself struggling to cope with the demands AC Valhalla asks of you. So if you fancy lowering the difficulty, or maybe increasing it because it’s too easy, then that’s also quite straightforward. Pause the game. – Go to Options. – Go to the Gameplay tab. – Change the difficulty to suit your preferences. – What difficulty affects? Each setting will come with its own personal circumstances and varying gameplay modifiers. These measures ensure that your experience is optimal and tailored to the way you want to experience Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. This is what the difficulty settings will affect. Combat The damage of enemy attacks, taking more health away from you. – The power of your attacks, taking less health from the enemy. – Aim assist can be altered to be snappy and automatically lock-on or turned off altogether. – Stealth The range at which enemies can see you. – How quickly they will detect you. – You can make it so every assassination attempt with the hidden blade is a guaranteed kill – regardless of the strength of the enemy. – Exploration Adjust the number of icons you can see on your heads-up display (HUD). – Changes how much information you receive with regards to the distance of landmarks and POIs. – A custom option will allow you to manually fine-tune the settings yourself. – That pretty much covers everything you need to know about how to change the difficulty settings in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Plus, which options may suit your playstyle the best. For more news and guides on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, then check out our Assassin’s Creed hub for all your information.

Drinking too much in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla can make you rich – Dexerto
Drinking too much in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla can make you rich UbisoftOne of the biggest money making methods discovered in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla so far allows players to rack up thousands of silver, simply from taking on drinking competitions. The game has a number of different characters you can choose to interact with, whether it be taking part in a game of Orlog, take on side quests, or more relevant to racking up some coin – drinking yourself into a drunken mess. Racking up money fast is all good and well, but you are going to have to gulp down alcohol just as quickly to have a chance. As YouTuber Idicus found out in a video posted to his channel on November 11, it can be a particularly effective method for increasing your net worth. How to get silver fast in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla The player first claimed that they thought this may be a glitch, though it looks to be an intentional feature Ubisoft have added in-game. Speaking of the trick, they said: “It is definitely meant to be in the game, it’s just insanely broken if you repeat it over and over. It will net you thousands and thousands of silver in no time.” This cash is obviously good to have for those looking to get their hands on better armor, weapons, arrows, and other things along your journey. The method is explained in the vide below. Essentially, to do this all you have to do is locate your nearest drinking game. These are dotted around the world and are signposted with a symbol of two locking horns, where players drink from. Once you arrive there, the YouTuber suggests you should bet the maximum amount – 200 silver – to kick things off. Then, it’s all about doubling your money. The content creator suggests that up to 8,000 silver could be made every single hour in continuous play, which will free up the resources for a number of exciting purchases. How to win drinking games in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla The guide video from Idicus is handy in terms of knowing how the exploit, or method, works in Valhalla. However, it might not be immediately clear how the drinking game works. To help you out, we’ve created a short step-by-step guide to help you gulp down the ale. Load up the game and visit a drinking location, found with the locked horns symbol. – Enter the drinking games in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. – Hit A/X every time the the white circle hits the inside of the orange inner circle. – Continue this process with accurate timing to outdrink your opponent. – Collect your winnings, which if you place a high stake, will allow you to make thousands in a matter of hours. – Now that you know what you know, you should be able to sit down and rack up thousands of silver in no time! Good luck, Eivor.

Does Assassin’s Creed Mirage have cross-progression? – Dexerto
Does Assassin’s Creed Mirage have cross-progression? UbisoftCross-progression is a useful modern-day tool and Assassin’s Creed Mirage players may be wondering if the new game has the feature. After all, it would be beneficial for multi-platform users, so let’s take a look. With so many viable platforms available now, many players need different ways of connecting to their saved data. For example, a selling point of Microsoft is taking progress from Xbox to PC and vice versa. Not only that but if you start out on PS4 and upgrade to PS5, then cross-progression inevitably helps. Assassin’s Creed Mirage is very much a historical game entrenched in 9th-century events. However, this doesn’t mean it can’t conform and adhere to modern-day principles. Meaning, can you actually ball with Basim and transfer your saved data on different formats? Does Assassin’s Creed Mirage have cross-progression? Assassin’s Creed does feature cross-progression. This means that you can transfer your saved progress across platforms. While there is obviously no conventional crossplay, with AC Mirage having no multiplayer, the feature will be great for taking your progress with you on the go. Cross-progression means you can finish up a mission on your Xbox Series X, then move to a different room and carry on from where you left off on a gaming PC. It offers great versatility, and you’ll be able to do it with the world of Baghdad to explore. That’s everything you need to know about cross-progression in Assassin’s Creed Mirage! Can you switch between Naoe and Yasuke in Assassin’s Creed Shadows? – Dexerto
Can you switch between Naoe and Yasuke in Assassin’s Creed Shadows? UbisoftAssassin’s Creed Shadows features two protagonists, but can you switch between Naoe and Yasuke or can you choose only one? Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the next game in Ubisoft’s long-standing series to feature dual protagonists, with players taking control of legendary samurai Yasuke and stealthy shinobi Naoe. Set against the backdrop of the Sengoku period, players will need to navigate this turbulent time in Japanese history to help usher in a new era. With Assassin’s Creed Shadows pre-orders now live, many fans will be wondering whether you’ll be able to freely switch between both characters or if you’ll play as one. Can you switch characters in Assassin’s Creed Shadows? Just like in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, players can freely switch between two protagonists in Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. The official site notes that you can “approach quests with whichever character you prefer,” as both have their own unique playstyles, skills, stats, and gear. For example, if you prefer to face your enemies head-on and rush into the fray, then Yasuke will be your go-to option. As a legendary samurai Yasuke, comes equipped with combat-focused skills that enable him to slice through his foes, using a combination of parries and deadly weapons to crush those that stand in his way. Yasuke can wield katana, kanabo, bows, naginata, and more – making him extremely powerful when it comes to close-quarters combat. While Yasuke can use stealth, IGN notes that his bulky armor and size make it hard to infiltrate a camp. Fortunately, this is where Assassin’s Creed: Shadow’s next protagonist Naoe comes in. As a quick-witted and agile Shinobi, Naoe is a master assassin who uses the art of deception to both kill and evade her enemies. You’ll want to consider switching to Naoe if you find yourself infiltrating a highly-guarded castle or encampment. Unlike Yasuke, Naoe utilizes kunai, shuriken, and smoke bombs to take down targets silently. She also comes equipped with parkour skills and a grappling hook that can be used to scale walls. She even comes equipped with the series’ iconic hidden blade. So, be sure to switch between Assassin’s Creed: Shadows’ samurai and shinobi protagonists if you wish to effortlessly remove your foes from the battlefield. Of course, you could always brute force your way through the campaign as either one, the choice is ultimately up to you.

Best Assassin’s Creed Valhalla skills to crush your enemies – Dexerto
Best Assassin’s Creed Valhalla skills to crush your enemies UbisoftAssassin’s Creed Valhalla’s skill tree is absolutely brimming with all kinds of unique abilities that help you tailor your character around specific archetypes and playstyles. Discover which skills you should be using in our guide below. Whether you wish to sneak into enemy encampments and slit their throats with stealthy backstabs or charge into the fray with heavy melee attacks, there’s a skill for every style of play. Choosing which skills to spend your hard-earned skill points on can be tricky in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, especially when there are some many unique moves to master. The Raven, Bear, and Wolf skill trees all have their own unique strengths and weaknesses, but there are some skills that are just better than others. In order to find out which ones you should purchase, we’ve outlined some of the best in the game. Best Melee Skills Stomp If you’re a melee-focused player, then chances are you’ll be knocking your enemies down a lot, especially weaker units that are less stable on their feet. As the name suggests, Stomp gives you the ability to crush your opponent with a bone-crunching boot to the head. Parry Damage Parrying is already very potent as it allows you to dish out extra damage during your enemy’s stagger, but Parry Damage makes this counter even more deadly. Whenever you successfully parry your foe, you’ll do damage to their health bar. This turns the already powerful parry into an even more lethal skill. Warrior Takedown Unlike the stealthy Advanced Assassination found in the Stealth tree, the Warrior Takedown forgoes this quiet approach to combat. Instead, your character will perform an incredibly gory kill on an unaware enemy. Not only does this skill send the head of your victim flying, but it also alerts all enemies around you. Players are rewarded for this brazen act as your adrenaline will fill for every enemy that has been alerted. While stealth can be incredibly rewarding, there are times when you need to unleash your inner Viking. Perfect Attack This skill may be simple in its premise but it is incredibly potent for any melee build. Simply hit the attack button during a weapon swing to do more damage on the next hit. Having a skill that buffs your next hit is fantastic for those that wish to truly crush their foes in combat. After all, who doesn’t like dealing extra damage for just tapping a button? Adrenaline Fiend When one or more adrenaline slots are filled, you gain a damage boost and attack-speed boost. This effect augments with each slot filled. Having straight stat increases your damage is always going to be beneficial no matter your build, especially when you combine it with the Adrenaline Upgrades. Best Stealth Skills Breakfall This skill is a must for any adventurer looking to traverse the mountainous lands a little easier. When equipped, Eivor automatically performs a roll when landing from a dangerous height, reducing the amount of damage taken. While it won’t increase your damage in combat, it will save you from any frustrating deaths. Auto-Loot Having to mash the pick up button whenever you kill an enemy can get tiring pretty quickly. Fortunately, this skill automatically does all the hard work for you. The Auto-Loot skill kicks in after every melee kill or stealth takedown. Backstab Landing lethal blows on an enemy’s back will inflict increased damage and cause them to stagger, giving you a few precious seconds to weave in more deadly attacks. Not only is backstab a great way to bolster your damage in combat, it also rewards those that exploit an enemy’s weakness. Advanced Assassination Being able to instantly assassinate high-level targets is always going to be useful, particularly if you wish to breeze through certain sections of the game. Simply sneak up to any high-level enemies and follow the on-screen prompt to unleash a devastating stealth kill. Brush with Death Any skill that allows you to weave in more lethal hits is always going to be extremely beneficial to any build in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. This skill slows downtime whenever you successfully dodge an enemy attack, giving you plenty of time to unleash a flurry of devastating attacks. Best Ranged Skills Sprint Attack There’s nothing better than running up to your enemies and delivering a deadly axe blow that knocks them to the ground. This skill is a must for any melee-focused build that wishes to quickly close the gap and get into the very thick of a fight. Last Chance Healing Sometimes a fight can get particularly heated and things can quickly start to take a turn for the worse. This is particularly true when you’re facing the game’s trickier enemies. Last Chance Healing slows downtime whenever you enter a critical state, enabling you to flee the fight or quickly wolf down any healing items. As a result, this skill is a must for any player that’s looking to increase their survivability. Grit Grit enables you to heal the red portion of your health bar whenever you land any melee hits, making it a great skill that rewards hyper-aggressive play. Combine this with any fast one-handed weapons and you have a recipe for success. Adrenaline Upgrade This is one is a no brainer and should be a top priority for any player looking to increase their damage and attack speed. Having an extra Adrenaline Slot is always going to be extremely beneficial, so purchase this on every skill tree as soon as you can. Battleground Bolt Melee focused builds are incredibly strong, but they often lack any forms of ranged attacks. Fortunately, Battleground Bolt alleviates this issue. simply pick up the nearest discarded weapon to automatically throw it at an enemy. Those pesky archers won’t even know what hit them. So, if you prefer to play aggressively and take out opponents in the thick of the action, you should consider choosing skills from melee tree. For those that prefer to assassinate targets up close and from afar, then the Ranged and Stealth skills will be more to your liking. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Where to find Nickel Ingots & Gold Tungsten Ingots – Dexerto
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Where to find Nickel Ingots & Gold Tungsten Ingots UbisoftNickel and Gold Tungsten ingots can be used to upgrade your gear in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, making them among the most valuable items. Gear upgrades in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla are essential for keeping up with the game’s difficulty curve as you progress. Heading into a high-level area without the necessary upgrades could result in you dying multiple times. In order to upgrade your gear in Valhalla, you’ll need to collect ingots. These ingots are marked as wealth on the map in various locations across the world. The rarest of these ingots are Nickel and Tungsten. Nickel will raise your item to Flawless rarity and Tungsten will upgrade an item to Mythical rarity, the highest tier of gear. The question is, where do people find these ingots in Valhalla’s huge open word? Well, let’s check out where you can get hold of these resources and start upgrading your gear. Where to find Nickel and Tungsten Ingots in Valhalla Ubisoft has designed the game so that ingot rarity is correlated with the power level of a certain area. Therefore, Nickel ingots can be found in med-power level areas and Tungsten ingots can be found in high-power level areas. This means as players progress through the game and onto the harder content, their weapons and gear upgrade to match the difficulty. Don’t forget, you can add runes to your weapons and as they upgrade, more rune slots are unlocked. The best way to farm these ingots is to raid as many towns and monasteries as possible. The ingots will be located in massive chests in the main buildings of these settlements or hidden underground in some cases. Keep in mind they can also be dropped by enemies with yellow health bars. Don’t underestimate these foes as they’re often significantly stronger than normal enemies. The type of ingot they drop will depend on the power level of the area they’re located. It’s worth noting that it’s possible to buy ingots with silver from the merchant in your settlement. You’ll need to have collected at least one of each type of ingot before they become available to purchase. This means you can use the drinking mini-event to farm silver and simply purchase the ingots you need from the merchant. Overall, just make sure you’re exploring the world and collecting all the wealth located on the map. This will guarantee you’ll have all the ingots you’ll ever need and you’ll experience everything the game has to offer.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla review: Epic introduction to new console era – Dexerto
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla review: Epic introduction to new console era UbisoftWith few huge blockbusters available at either console’s launch, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be the first game that many people will choose to play on their new PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. It’s a wise choice. Ubisoft’s own horrible histories have have swept us away on a globetrotting adventure, taking us everywhere from the Holy Land in the Crusades to the battlefields of the American Revolution and even pirate warfare in the Caribbean. Valhalla isn’t the first time we’ve visited Britain, with Syndicate taking us back to Victorian times, but even with Odyssey letting us experience the brutality of the Spartan Wars, it’s hard to think of a time better suited to the visceral, bloody battles than that of the Vikings. The developers have had a lot of fun with this era, creating characters that are arguably meaner, tougher, and more ruthless than ever before. Although the return of Instant Assassinations create hushed, almost intimate moments before you execute a victim, this is an action packed romp in which you won’t spend a lot of your time sneaking around. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Key Details Copy: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Price: £51.99 / $50.00 – Developer: Ubisoft – Release date: November 10, 2020 – Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC – Story is beautiful and gripping The most notable feature of Valhalla is the ability to choose whether your main character will be a man or a woman. That said, whichever gender you choose for Eivor, it won’t make a difference to their strength or ferocity. They’ll still be in command of a warship with a group of huge, dirty, muscular men by your side as the Brotherhood of Assassins and the Templar Order go head to head. Just like in Odyssey, Layla Hassan is in the present day, controlling Eivor using the power of the Animus. However, this time she has a new team of assassins, including Shaun Hastings and Rebecca Crane, and together they use DNA to lead a second life in the past. Their mission is to conquer different areas of the map and build alliances as they look for a new place to live in a world in which resources have been drained by King Alfred of Wessex. Very early, allies and foes are established – there’s Sigurd Styrbjornson who stands side by side with you as a fierce warrior, but also the evil Kjotve The Cruel who will do anything to take you down. He’s not the only one, either. As those who have put over 100 hours into Origins and Odyssey will know, Layla is stubborn and not to be messed with. Through ordering the deaths of enemies, she immediately gains the respect of the brutes around her. A visual masterpiece Whether it’s Origins or Rogue remastered, Assassin’s Creed games have always been celebrated for their stunning landscapes and textures, but Ubisoft have really excelled with Valhalla. Though ninth century Britain and Norway are dangerous places to be, they are beautiful. Just little things like the mist descending or the sun glistening over the hilltops may make you pause for a moment to take a few shots on photo mode. This is a step up, which is what you’d expect from a new generation of consoles. While it’s nice to stand high on mountains and take in the breathtaking wild landscapes below, much of your time will be spent on the high seas. Crashing into the waves in a warship will be welcome to fans of the pirate warfare of Black Flag, but what’s really exciting is the new River Raids, which take axe battles to new levels of brutality. You’ll sail to a location, dive off the ship and quickly attack an enemy base. As the battle commences, both your opponents and allies will be hunted in packs – nobody is safe on the battlefield as blood is spilled with every swing of a weapon. It seems chaotic, but to overcome your enemy you need to have a method behind the madness, and that’s where Valhalla’s new progression system shines. Some features are a challenge The progression system forces you to go in blind, which might initially prove frustrating for players, but it really works in the long run. Essentially, you have to pick a direction in which to invest your skill points and the further you go, the more abilities and upgrades will appear in the mist. It’s clear to see why this is frustrating as you could spend 30-40 points and end up with one of the less powerful sets of abilities. If these weren’t hidden from the start, your route would be clearer. You may choose to upgrade your initial fighting style and add moves to your skillset – for example, Stomp or Stealth Recon. These make you more nimble or deadly in battle, and along the way to earning them, multiple attributes will be unlocked as well. Increased range resistance, range, headshots, and more. It encourages you to be more brutal, as well as take on more fights. The more skill points you rack up, the more deadly Eivor will become. Many abilities are actually hidden in Books of Knowledge around the map, too. While it’s exciting when you come across a new hidden ability, it can be annoying as there’s a feeling that you’re not really being rewarded for your skill – rather the patience to actually search for this stuff. Another new feature is the ability to build your own fortress and upgrade settlements to strengthen against potential attacks. It’s all very tactical, because you’re having to think one step ahead all of the time. If there is another annoyance to highlight, it is the healing system. While it’s a welcome challenge to have limited berries to replenish your health bar, at times during River Raids, it’s often like playing with your hand tied behind your back. Defensive play doesn’t quite fit with the period this game is set in either, although it does bring a tactical element to the fight. The more you boost your gear, though, the less of a problem this becomes. Give it time. Fate and flashbacks Past Assassin’s Creed games have put a big focus on quests and their effect on the narrative. The decisions you make in any RPG have consequences, but Eivor’s quest to get more allies has an end goal that we can’t really influence – finding a better place to live in Britain, after seeing Norway’s resources depleted at the hands of King Alfred of Wessex. There’s a definite structure to the tale that doesn’t vary between male and female selections, which is also a bonus. The narrative is nicely played out in the cutscenes, too. Whether it’s a flashback or a short sequence that drives the story forward, they are spectacular at times. You may have a plan for Eivor’s journey, but these visions almost feel like fate or moments of déjà vu that keep you on your toes. You’ll see some chilling sights such as severed hands and ravens flying out from corpses, giving the tale a sense of dread. As fate gains an ever-stronger presence in the main story, so too does power – which you accrue on your travels from Scandinavia to the United Kingdom. There’s a series of short narrative side quests which briefly cross over at times. They are all location-based as well, meaning almost every character you meet has a tale to tell, and a journey for you to undertake in each civilization – early examples being Nottfall and Mannskapsangrep. These last a short period of time encouraging you to move to the next challenge. That is the way of these Vikings, though, so while it may feel fragmented, the main story carries us through nicely. They’re all building blocks. While fate and foreshadowing play a big role in building Valhalla’s compelling story, it’s important to follow the arcs of each main group to connect the dots. Knowing how Vikings can save the world outside of the Animus is the hook, and the stories between Order of Ancients, Hidden Ones, and others Randvi puts you into contact with will keep you engaged. The main tale has positives and negatives, but certainly lays the groundwork for an Odyssey-style expansion DLC to continue this special turn for the series. Orlog is the icing on the cake Quests and side quests are also tracked really easily in the menus, and the next checkpoints are signaled simply on the map’s compass system. Bringing a small mini-game like Orlog is a refreshing change, similar to how The Witcher 3 has Gwent, but it’s not quite as exciting as that. To play Orlog, you simply roll a few dice. The main objective is to take your opponent’s 15 stones before they snatch yours. You will pick up to three God favors, and each player will have six dice to roll each time. These bordered symbols on each cube, if landed on, grant you different God favor tokens. For example, the hand face will allow the player to steal a God favor token from the opponent. Different pairs cancel each other out in your mission to grab all 30 stones, mixing chance with strategy to break up some of the long-running quests in-game. Each dice has a different effect as well, seen below: Axe: Deal 1 melee damage – Arrow: Deal 1 ranged damage – Helmet: Block 1 melee damage – Shield: Block 1 ranged damage – Hand: Steal 1 God Token from your opponent – The more you play, the more chance you have of unlocking the champion trophy/achievement, and you don’t have to keep playing against the same people either. The more of Norway and England you discover, the more opponents will appear – so it’s something you can enjoy right the way through the Valhalla experience. A nice touch. Rating: 8.5/10 If Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is your first PS5 or Xbox Series X/S game, you won’t be disappointed. Not only does it show off the graphical potential of this new generation of consoles with its stunning landscape and bloody action sequences, but the quality of the storytelling will keep you hooked long after you’ve been blown away by how great it looks. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla legendary animal locations and how to beat them – Dexerto
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla legendary animal locations and how to beat them UbisoftIt’s no easy task defeating every legendary animal and achieving the Master Hunter achievement is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. It’s difficult to track down the beasts let alone slay them. Well, we’re going to tell you exactly how and where you can kill each legendary animal is Valhalla. The world of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is filled with countless dangers and threats. Some of which come in the form of legendary animals that are scattered across various regions of the game. Each is unique and offers a challenging battle to any player looking to take them on. These will stop at nothing to defeat you in battle. Of course, these tough opponents do offer a hearty reward if they’re slain. This includes the Master Hunter achievement for defeating every legendary animal in Valhalla. The question is, where do I find them and how do I defeat them? Well, the list below will show you exactly where each animal is located and offers a few tips to help you make sure you win the fight. Where to find each legendary animal in Valhalla Elk of the Bloody Peaks – Rygjafylke The Elk of the Bloody Peaks is located in Rygjafykle and is the easiest of the legendary animals. In terms of tips, you will want to focus on attacking the Elk from its side. By doing this, you’ll avoid the animal’s devastating kick and headbutt. The Elk’s attacks are all relatively telegraphed and easy to predict, so just be ready to dodge any incoming blows. Finally, pay attention to when the Elk moves away to gain some distance, it usually means it’s lining up for a charge. Black Shulk – East Anglia The Black Shulk is located in East Anglia and its attacks are fast-paced and deadly. For this fight, you’ll want to use a spear and keep your distance or utilize a shield and wait for the perfect time to attack. It’s important you’re patient when looking to land attacks on the animal. Similarly to the Elk, when the Shulk distances itself from you, be prepared to dodge a launching attack. After the animal has landed, capitalize on the few moments you have to land a strike. Finally, remember to consume the Winter Chantrelle scattered around the animal’s location to regain some health mid-fight. Gemad Wulf – Lincolnscire The Gemad Wulf is located in Lincolnscire on the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla map, and calls upon its pack to help him mid-fight. The Wulf is located in an old ruin surrounded by walls, it will use this terrain to its advantage and attempt to jump down on you from above. Make sure you retreat to the opposite side of whichever wall the Wulf is on. Keep in mind, the Wulf’s howl will cause a pack of other wolves to join the fight. These wolves are relatively easy to kill, just make sure you’re keeping an eye on the Wulf while you battle the rest of the pack. The Corpse Feeders – Oxenefordscire The Corpse Feeders are located in Oxenefordscire and are a pack of deadly wolves. The Corpse Feeders’ strengths are their numbers, so taking them out one by one is the best method. In the center of the field, there is a barn-like building. Climbing on top of this will allow you to make it a 1v1 with each wolf in the pack. Only one wolf can stand on the barn at one time so this eliminates the need to track all three at once. Alfred’s Battle Sow – Suthsexe Alfred’s Battle Sow is located in Suthsexe and has a devastating charge. The Sow utilizes similar attacks to the Elk in that it uses a headbutt, charge, and kick. All of these attacks are telegraphed, however, can cause massive damage if they land. The animal uses slow and heavy attacks so there are plenty of opportunities to land blows. Just make sure you’re ready to dodge any charges and attempt to attack the beast from its side. It’s worth noting the other bulls in the field will help the Sow throughout the battle. Beast of the Hills – Sciropescire The Beast of the Hills is located in Sciropescire and resides in the Uriconium Ruins. The bear uses a series of charges and swipes that leave it exposed to attacks if dodged correctly. You’ll want to focus on dodging these attacks and capitalizing on the bear’s immobilized state. Read more: How to fish in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Finally, look to attack the bear from behind as most of its attacks are front-facing. The Blood Swine – Eurvicscire The Blood Swine is located in Eurvicscire and can be found roaming the reeds of a swamp, in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The Swine has similar attacks to a lot of the other legendary animals such as a charge and buck. However, the key difference in this fight is the terrain and foliage surrounding the animal. The Swine will retreat into the bushes and attempt to charge from out of your vision. Make sure you’re fully aware of where the animal is located at all times. Bear of the Blue Waters The Bear of the Blue Waters is located in Hordafylke and resides on an island surrounded by water. This legendary animal is very similar to the Beast of the Hills as they’re both bears and use slow but powerful attacks. You should focus on attempting to attack the bear from behind as that way you’ll avoid its swipe and smash attacks. Hopefully, this guide has helped you locate and defeat the legendary animals of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and claim the Master Hunter achievement. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla leak reveals ‘Dawn of Ragnarok’ DLC – Dexerto
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla leak reveals ‘Dawn of Ragnarok’ DLC via hashiqigouThe next big installment for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has leaked online ahead of its official announcement that gave fans an early look at the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC. Ubisoft started to tease the next chapter of Valhalla on December 10 promising a live premiere event scheduled for Monday the 13th. The surprise has seemingly been spoiled days ahead of the show with a leak that revealed new screenshots and even a release date for Valhalla’s DLC. Images give a glimpse of what AC fans will get to see when Dawn of Ragnarok comes to the game including new abilities, scenes from Svartalfheim and plenty of gods from Norse mythology. The information was sourced from a Chinese store site before spreading online through a viral Reddit post. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Dawn of Ragnarok Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Dawn of Ragnarok will reportedly launch on March 10, 2022 and will deliver “the most ambitious” expansion in the game. The Dawn of Ragnarok will thrust players into a world of warring gods with a story that features Odin (Havi) and a change of style for the AC franchise. A translated excerpt of the DLC summary reads: “The story takes place in the magnificent Nine Realms in the mythology of North, and here has been threatened by the invasion of the kingdom of frost and flames. The kingdom of dwarves in Wat Alheim is now falling apart; during the war, Odin’s beloved son Badr was also unfortunately taken away by the immortal fire giant-Surut. “Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla”-Dawn of Ragnarok” is the most ambitious expansion pack in the history of this series: this time, Aivor must personally experience the fate of Odin, the war of the North and the destiny of the god of wisdom. The world of mythology, shouldering the urgent task of saving children, unleashing the brand-new supernatural power of the thunderbolt. After this shocking Viking legend, save your own flesh and blood before the gods are swallowed by the catastrophe.” Ubisoft are taking Valhalla in a completely different direction from what fans are used to with Dawn of Ragnarok. This will be the third expansion to the game after The Wrath of the Druids and The Siege of Paris along with previously released missions and extras. Ubisoft have yet to reveal Dawn of Ragnarok for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla but we’ll know more during the company’s December 13 event.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has some brilliant Harry Potter easter eggs – Dexerto
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has some brilliant Harry Potter easter eggs Ubisoft / Warner BrosAssassin’s Creed Valhalla is finally here, and it comes with some pretty sweet references to the world of Harry Potter – if you can find them. Ubisoft’s latest entry into the hugely popular role-playing video game series takes players back in time to 873 AD, as they become Norwegian warrior Eivor and lead a group of Vikings on their mission to conquer the broken kingdoms of Britain. As with previous Assassin’s Creed games, players have been discovering easter eggs that exist throughout the game’s expansive open world, including some surprising references to big entertainment franchises like The Legend of Zelda, Lord of the Rings, and even Harry Potter. How to find Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Harry Potter easter egg In the London area of the game, the player can stumble across a cabin guarded by a snake. If you kill the snake, you can enter the cabin and discover a ‘strange list’ that has seven items on it: Diary, Ring, Locket, Cup, Diadem, Snake, and a final mysterious item simply labeled ‘???’. The items are clearly references to the Horcruxes in Harry Potter, seven items that contained parts of Voldemort’s soul and had to be destroyed. The seventh item was Potter himself, although it’s listed here as three question marks as it could be considered a spoiler if you never finished the movies or books. Players can also find a cup, a necklace, a book, a tiara, and a wand inside the cabin, adding further to the Horcrux references. The easter egg has been screenshotted by members of the Harry Potter subreddit, which you can see below. And the details don’t end there. On the wall of the cabin are four banners, each of which represents a color of the four houses at Hogwarts: blue for Ravenclaw, red for Gryffindor, green for Slytherin, and yellow for Hufflepuff. There’s a Fantastic Beasts easter egg as well That’s not the only Harry Potter-related easter egg to be found in the game: When browsing through the general stores, players can purchase multiple volumes of a book that unlocks the locations of different fish. The name of those books? Fantastic Fishes and Where to Find Them. It’s a small but humorous nod to J.K. Rowling’s spin-off series Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which began as a standalone book and has now become a major Hollywood franchise. If you’re currently working your way through Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you can find our extensive list of guides for the game right here on Dexerto.

The snow-capped region of Rygjafylke is home to a total of 13 Mysteries which range from World Events, Flyting, and hunting a Legendary Animal. While each Rygjafylke mystery can be found on the map via the blue icon, some of them require a little extra thinking, especially if you wish to complete them without any trouble. Ubisoft’s latest installment is a big game and if you wish to equip Eivor with the best abilities, you’ll need a bounty of experience and skill points. Fortunately, each mystery rewards players with plenty of skill points and useful items. Whether you’re looking to 100% Assassin’s Creed Valhalla or just wish to complete the game’s Mysteries, then our Rygjafylke Mysteries guide has you covered. The Silver Tongued Traitor Head over to Stavanger and talk to Sulke in the northwest corner of the encampment. You should hear him shouting about luck, so simply go up to him and begin talking to him. Sulke will tell you that he sells priceless artifacts and rare items that have been claimed from around the world. Once the cutscene has finished playing Sulke will try to run away. Chase him down and he’ll hand over a key. Use the key to open the chest and claim the silver and yarn within it. Raider Recruit Rolf can also be found in the center of Stavanger. Rolf will explain that he wants you to train his fresh-faced recruits by facing them in combat. Follow him down to the docks and begin the bloody brawl. The first fight will pit you against two opponents, so try to focus on dodging and weave in any attacks whenever possible. Once you’ve beaten your first two opponents, you’ll have to face off against Thorgils. His lunge attack is strong and can quickly lead to a quick KO, but it is also incredibly slow. Wait for Thorgils to unleash his devastating punch and sidestep it with your dodge. This will allow you to deliver a flurry of quick punches that will whittle down his health. Once you’ve defeated Thorgils, speak to Rolf again to complete the mystery and gain your reward. The Dreamwalking Warrior Head to the blue marker directly East of Valka’s Hut. As you begin trekking up the mountain path, you will find a sleeping Viking who is meant to be on sentry duty. Interact with him to bring him from his slumber. After a brief explanation as to why he feels so tired during his sentry duty, Eyvind will begin to sleepwalk. Follow the sleepy Viking and take the rope-slide over the cliff edge. Once you have successfully made it across, speak to Eyvind to complete the quest. Manning, Fighter of Wolves Run to the center of Stavanger and talk to Manning. He will begin mocking you and wishes to best you in a Flyting match. Pick the below verses in order to beat him in lyrical combat: What you make up in muscles, you’re lacking in spine. – They seem perfectly placed to give children a scare. – No, you’re quite like your arms: just incredibly thick. – The Hunt for Honor This mystery can be located just southwest of Eikundarsund in a small camping spot near the sea. Upon reaching the location, you’ll find a shivering Skald named Erlend. Erlend is aiming to claim honor for his family, but he lacks the strength to beat a person in combat. Instead, you must bring him an animal he can best. Head into the nearby forest and track down a wolf and lead it back to Erlend. The Skald will then begin to fight with the beast, but despite his best efforts, he will fail to take down the cunning canine. Despite this loss, Eivor will still gain silver and experience for their part in this quest. Elk of the Bloody Peaks This side quest tasks you with fighting one of the eight Legendary Animals. The Elk of the Bloody Peaks is located just west of Fornburg at the top of the Elgrfors mountain. In order to avoid the animal’s lethal kicks and headbutts, try to land your hits upon its side. The elk’s attacks have a fair amount of windup to them, so keep circling around it and be ready to dodge out the way. When an attack misses, unleash a volley of fast and heavy attacks. Rinse and repeat until the Legendary beast falls. A Desperate Bounty Head over to the blue marker on the island northwest of Haervik Shipyard. You will find a man who proclaims a jarl has been taken by bandits. Follow him to the location and kill all the cutthroats and speak to Hrorek to complete the quest. The Plight of the Warlock If you head East of Gryttirsand, you will find a hunter preaching about how foul magic lurks within the forest. The hunter states that a warlock has poisoned his sister and that a handsome bounty would be given to anyone who claims the warlock’s life. Follow the hunter to the nearby hut and speak to the warlock sitting outside. After you have listened to the warlock’s side of events, the hunter will run over and begin to engage the healer in combat. Simply choose which one you wish to help to complete the quest. Comb of Champions This mystery is Nestled just below Adrift Refuge and Hildesvini’s Crag. Head over to the lake and read the note that sits upon the bench. Once you’ve read it, speak with the woman who is sitting on the red rug. She will explain that her comb is somewhere in the freezing lake and that you must find it. Dive into the lake and use your Odin Sight to spot the comb at the bottom. Return the comb to the woman to complete the quest. Lost Drengr – Erik Loyalskull Erik the Loyalskull can be found west of Hildesvini Crag. Make your way through the cave and follow the path until you reach his hideout. Speak with him to begin the fight. Loyalskull will start the fight by unleashing a flurry of throwing daggers, so dodge out the way or block them if you have a shield. Whenever Loyalskull winds up for his charged lunge attack, simply sidestep it and follow up with your own melee hits. His jumping attack will hit up two times and can make short work of you if you’re not careful. Dodge to the side and deliver backstab damage with your heavy attack. Keep dodging his charged attack and weave in your own hits whenever you have enough time. Eventually, you will be able to deliver enough damage to give this once proud warrior the death he seeks. Interact with the body to confirm the kill and complete the quest. Old Man on the Edge Located at the top of the mountain, this quest tasks you with throwing Old Harek’s possessions off the cliff. Simply pick up each box and toss them over the edge. It’s really as simple as that. Rygjafylke Fly Agaric Make your way over to the small island near the center of Rygjafylke and read the note next to the three wooden totems. Once you’ve read the letter, eat the Fly Agaric to begin the hallucination. You must run through three doors in the correct order to complete the mystery. Thor statue (man with the hammer). – Freyja statue (the woman with long hair). – All-Father statue (small man with a helmet). – A New England Sail over to the northwestern island of Rygjafylke and speak Hysing the World Wise. He proclaims that you are in England and will give you a guided tour of the island’s most iconic sights. He will eventually lead you to a hut and ramble about how King Alfred has been taken north of Hadrian’s Wall. Follow Hysing to the nearby camp and watch interact with the sparring dummy. Pick either dialogue option to complete the quest. So there you have it, that’s every Rygjafylke Mystery location and how to complete them. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla guide: How to solve all Hordafylke mysteries – Dexerto
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla guide: How to solve all Hordafylke mysteries UbisoftAssassin’s Creed Valhalla is filled with all kinds of mysteries for you to uncover, so here’s every piece of side content available in Hordafylke. The snowy regions of Norway hide all kinds of Mysteries and treasures for you to uncover in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Of course, some are much easier to complete than others. Each region is home to various side quests that see Eivor takedown Legendary Animals, duel blood-thirsty Vikings, stack stones, and even take part in rhyming rap battles. There are a total of seven Mysteries located in Hordafylke and you’ll need to complete each one if you wish to 100% the game. Not only are Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s mysteries a step up from the previous game’s side quests, but they also net you a wealth of items and experience. Make sure to use our Hordafylke guide below to uncover the region’s Mysteries. The Rekindling Head over to Alrekstad and run over to the west section of the town. Locate the hut with a woman standing outside of it. Upon interacting with her, you’ll find that she is unsatisfied with her love life and misses the excitement that enemy raids brought to her marriage. To complete this quest, simply enter the couple’s home and begin destroying their possessions. However, this won’t be nearly enough. To really reignite their passion for one another, you’ll need to burn their house to the ground. Bring up the selection wheel and equip your torch, then throw it onto the hay that has been strewn across the floor. Once the fire has died down, enter the hut and open the chest to claim your prize. Bear of the Blue Waters This Legendary polar bear is found on a remote island directly south of Hordafylke. Use your boat to travel to Bolrikbjorn and clamber ashore to begin the hunt. The polar bear has extremely powerful attacks, so you should focus on attacking the bear from behind to avoid its ferocious claw swipes. Torghatten Rock (Cairn) This stone stacking quest can be found near Torghatten Rock. Make your way over to the blue marker and interact with the stones. Once you’ve finished balancing each stone atop one another and reached the required height, you’ll be rewarded with one Skill Point. Orwig Neverdeath Orwig Neverdeath is located northeast of Ulriken Peak. Make your way over to the cliff face until you reach his hideout. Speak with him to begin the fight. This hardy Viking uses two gigantic shields to crush his opponents, so you’ll need to bypass his defense if you wish to claim a victory here. In order to avoid being pummeled into oblivion, simply wait for Orwig to unleash his charged lunge and weave in some quick hits. Try to stagger Orwig with heavy attacks and position yourself in a way that Orwig is facing the cliff edge. If you keep up your offense, Orwig will gradually keep backing his way up to the cliff. If done correctly, the mighty Viking will eventually fall to his death. This technique will cut the fight short and enable even the most underleveled players to best Orwig in combat. Battle Born This mystery is located just southeast of Alrekstad. Simply follow the snowy path until you come across three play fighting children. Speak to the child wearing the metal helmet to begin the quest, then follow them to the dilapidated hut. Four dummies have been placed outside the hut and you must strike each of them with your weapon. Once you’ve taken down your straw filled foe, it’s time to claim your well-earned prize. Head over to the right side of the hut and open the chest. With your enemies obliterated and their camp in disarray, it’s time to head back over to the Kaija (child wearing armor) and announce your success. Animus Anomaly This mystery is found directly northeast of Torghatten Rock at a place named Hlutrholt. In order to access this Anomaly, you’ll first need to reach Assassin’s Creed Valhalla endgame content, so remember to come back here later. To begin the trial, simply interact with the flickering shape and enter the Anomaly. Traverse the blue blocks and reach the top to complete the trial. Hordafylke Fly Agaric Head over to the mushroom marker on the southwestern section of the map and interact with the mushroom patch. The hallucination will spawn four enemies who you must defeat. Try to focus your attacks on one enemy at a time and pull them away from the rest of the pack. The pyro user will constantly barrage you with scorching hot flames, which can prove potent when you’re locked into melee combat with the other three units. As a result, you’ll want to quickly dispatch him before targeting the other units. Once the ranged unit is down, simply continue focussing on one target until only one of them remains. This will make the fight much more manageable and your success rate will drastically increase. So there you have it, that’s every Hordafylke Mystery location and how to complete them. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla full map: all regions & locations – Dexerto
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla full map: all regions & locations UbisoftWith fans of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, players are now able to look at all of the playable locations in the biggest map of the franchise. Although map size has increased in Assassin Creed over recent years, with Origins and Odyssey giving even more for players to explore, Ubisoft expanded even further with the release of Valhalla. It was previously revealed by Ubisoft producer, Julien Laferrière, that AC: Valhalla would be “a bit larger” than Odyssey, which previously held the record for the biggest Assassin’s Creed map, but we now know just how it will look in-game. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla map revealed PowerPyx, who are known for their PlayStation trophy guides, shared an early look at all five playable locations that will be unlocked in the Valhalla questline. Valhalla follows the story of Eivor, a Viking raider who finds themselves mixed up in the age-old conflict between the Assassins and the Templars, and has to journey across Scandinavia and England completing quests. There will be five unique regions in this title: England, Norway, Vinland, Asgard, and Jotunheim – all with different level recommendations and sub-regions inside these major areas. Here’s a walkthrough of all five regions. England England is where most of the storyline is played out, and it will also be the largest part of the Valhalla world. This map spans across 120km² (13.2km long, 9.1km wide), compared to the 90.7km² in Odyssey. As the title will be set during the Dark Ages in England, the country is split into the sub-regions that were around at that time, which have been revealed as Northumbria, Wessex, East Anglia, and Mercia. The main region features plenty of historical locations and landmarks, with the likes of Stonehenge and major cities such as London and York included as well. Norway Eivor’s quest first begins in their home country of Norway. It is the second biggest region in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, covering 15km² (5km long, 3km wide) in total. The western part of the Scandinavian Peninsula will feature two areas. Rygjafylke, which is where you will begin your journey, and Hordafylke, which is recommended for Level 280+ characters, will likely be visited later in the story. Asgard Asgard, one of the Nine Realms and home of the gods in Norse mythology, is also confirmed. This mythical region is one of the smallest places in the game. It will be available for players to unlock through the “Seer’s Hut” questline. Jotunheim The World of the Giants or “Jotunheim” was also previously leaked as one of the five regions. This part of the world will be unlocked after players progress through the questlines that are available on Asgard. Vinland While little is known about Vinland, it’ll be unlocked to players in the later stages of Valhalla’s main story. Vinland has been linked to a questline that involves the Order of the Ancients. The area is also much smaller than the likes of England and Norway. So, there you have it, all of the locations that will feature in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla! In past titles, Ubisoft has introduced even more areas to the game as part of post-launch DLC. So, new regions can still be added to Valhalla down the line.

Assassin’s Creed Shadow’s Yasuke trap-inspired theme slammed as “racist” – Dexerto
Assassin’s Creed Shadow’s Yasuke trap-inspired theme slammed as “racist” UbisoftAssassin’s Creed Shadows has been proven to be a controversial entry into the franchise and now some are calling its in-game music “racist.” Ubisoft showcased some of Assassin’s Creed Shadow’s gameplay during its Ubisoft Forward event on June 10, 2024. The extended sneak peek at the game showed how players will get to choose to play as the title’s dual protagonists, and some first looks at the gameplay. However, some gamers have latched onto a background element of the showcase on social media and are coming at the game for supposed “racist” music. “Japanese music run through a rap filter. This is so hilariously racist,” one Twitter/ X user stated. “Ain’t no way Ubisoft took Japanese music & turned it rap themed cause you play Yasuke a black samurai,” another user said. The music in question appears during combat sections with one of the game’s protagonists, Yasuke. Its arrangement sounds like a traditional Japanese instrument, the Shamisen, played with trap high hats and beats imposed over it. “Apart from this looking bad, why did they choose that music?” Another social media user asked. “Associating hip-hop beats with a 16th-century African has to be one of the most hilariously stupid anachronisms I’ve ever seen. And yeah, I know it’s fiction. It’s still dumb.” The original post that fans have used to point out the confusing elements of the in-game music was intended to highlight how the new Assassin’s Creed entry’s combat seemed to be inspired by Ghost of Tsushima. Now, the post has grown a life of its own and has quickly spread around social media. Assassin’s Creed Shadow’s first gameplay trailer dropped on June 9, 2024, during the Xbox Games Showcase and left fans optimistic about the new Ubisoft title. But now, that warm reception has been overshadowed by this music controversy on social media.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows confirms romance options but fans are skeptical – Dexerto
Assassin’s Creed Shadows confirms romance options but fans are skeptical UbisoftRomance options will return in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, but the love interests in previous games have fans feeling skeptical. AC Odyssey introduced romance options to the series in 2018, allowing Kassandra and Alexios to engage in all types of relationships. The feature reappeared in Valhalla two years later and included more serious romance opportunities, specifically with Randvi. However, both games left much to be desired in this regard since interactions with love interests were limited to a few scripted exchanges, then dissolved into stock ‘check-in’ scenes. Assassin’s Creed developers haven’t given up, though, apparent in the fact that romances will play a part in AC Shadows. Associate Narrative Director Brooke Davies confirmed as much in an IGN Live 2024 sit-down. When asked about the possibilities, Davies said, “The amazing thing about the dual protagonists that we had fun with on the writing team was imagining the relationships these two very different [characters] could have with the different people they encounter in the game world.” Segment begins at 6:07. While romance possibilities could prove interesting, fans looking forward to Assassin’s Creed Shadows have already expressed skepticism. Several users in a Reddit thread about the topic argue that neither Odyssey nor Valhalla did romance well enough to warrant excitement about the news. One such comment reads, “Assassin’s Creed’s handling of romance in Odyssey was so fundamentally terrible that I truly don’t trust them to make a good romance again…” Someone else recalling the meaningless relationships in Odyssey wrote, “I hope the romance choices will be a bit more interesting than the one-night-stand scatter-shot approach of Odyssey… if there’s going to be a romance, then let it be more meaningful.” Others poked fun at the Randvi romance in Valhalla, with one person noting that after successfully courting her, the relationship devolved into “Kiss, Show me the alliance map, Kiss, Go to bed.” However, there are fans who hope the Shadows developers have taken notes from other RPGs by adding meaningful side quests that make relationships feel more involved. Players will find out how well relationships have been integrated in the latest Assassin’s Creed when it hits stores on November 15, 2024.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the perfect game to play while we wait for Ghost of Tsushima 2 – Dexerto
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the perfect game to play while we wait for Ghost of Tsushima 2 DexertoGhost of Tsushima 2 might not be confirmed, but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing, as one title will tide us over until its eventual release: Assassin’s Creed Shadows. If the likes of Odyssey and Mirage have taught me one thing, it’s that Assassin’s Creed is well and truly back in its prime. Mirage perfected its return back to the older style of Assassin’s Creed games, with a more detailed story, heartbreaking twists, and epic stealth gameplay. Meanwhile, Odyssey showed what it really means to dedicate an immense open-world adventure in the heart of an expansive yet complex historical period. Take both of those, combine them, and then add in a sprinkling of the gameplay and teasers we’ve seen from Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and you’ve got a recipe for what looks to be one of the best modern Assassin’s Creed games out there (nothing will beat Brotherhood though, sorry). So, with Shadows coming soon, now couldn’t be a better time to get a small taster before Ghost of Tsushima 2 is eventually served up. Ghost of Tsushima 1.5 Now, while it’s all well and good saying you should try Shadows while waiting for Ghost of Tsushima 2, why bother? If you’ve not been interested in Assassin’s Creed in the past, why start now, and why even compare it to Ghost of Tsushima? It certainly feels a world away from the West Indies or Viking England we’ve previously seen. The answer’s simple: These two games feel more like siblings than separate titles. Both are set in the same landscape, both allow you to focus on stealth or honorable combat whenever you choose, and both feature stunning, large, open-world exploration throughout their overarching main stories. As such, it’ll be easy to dive into Shadows without it feeling a world away from the experience you’re expecting. Sure, you won’t be able to run around as Jin, but you’ll still be able to explore the same region but at a different time period. Ghost of Tsushima is set in 1274, while Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes place in 1579, some 300 years after Jin’s eventful life. As such, this will be the perfect opportunity to revisit familiar visuals and action styles but with a different historical period, almost acting as a 1.5 version of Ghost of Tsushima. Of course, we haven’t seen the entire game yet, but if the gameplay is anything to go off of, Shadows certainly pays homage to the traditional style of Japanese fighting in the same way as Ghost of Tsushima and will certainly act as a perfect transition between the first iteration, Shadows, and Sucker Punch’s eventual sequel. The starter before the main course When looking into their similarities and their inherent designs, it’s easy to conclude that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the perfect starter to satiate your hunger while you wait for Ghost of Tsushima 2. Shadows will be releasing in November, and if Ghost 2 does ever get announced, it’s likely we won’t see it until late 2025 or 2026 at the earliest, giving you plenty of time to delve into feudal Japan once again, but through two different pairs of eyes. Sure, you’ll have to deal with the Assassin’s Creed lore, but if you can look past the Isu and its creations, then you’ll definitely be treated to the perfect waiting game before you can dive right back into Ghost of Tsushima 2. Or just replay the first one; we can’t tell you what to do.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows uses dual protagonists to merge both styles of AC games – Dexerto
Assassin’s Creed Shadows uses dual protagonists to merge both styles of AC games UbisoftAssassin’s Creed Shadows feels like a culmination of a series sixteen years in the making. Blending together the best of its old and new eras, this year’s entry pays homage to the original, stealth-oriented AC titles while merging with the more recent action-oriented installments in a seamless package, all bundled together in a brutally glorious rendition of Feudal Japan. Beginning a 45-minute demonstration of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, developers showed us a few minutes of Yasuke in action. After a quick scuffle with some lower-level thugs and one particular samurai of note, the intention — or at least what I perceive to be the intention — of the very project, began to crystalize. Before the demo proceeded, Shadows offered the player a choice. Continue as Yasuke or swap to Naoe. It’s in this option, in these two characters, where the game’s true purpose shined through. While not explicitly stated, it’s quite clear these dual protagonists represent, to some degree, the distinct eras in AC’s history. Naoe is a stealthy assassin who sticks to the shadows, taking out targets without raising the alarm, and representing the original style of AC game. A figure that would no doubt make Ezio proud. Then there’s Yasuke, a towering samurai, charging his way through crowds of enemies, swinging his melee weapons with lethal intent no matter how many others it may alert. He’s a more modern counterpart, representing AC’s pivot to action-oriented gameplay. Together they’re electric, but apart, they give players autonomy. Which version of AC would you like to play at this moment? Freely able to swap between the two on the fly, the choice is entirely yours, and Shadows is all greater for it. Different styles, different strategies, different AC Throughout the behind-closed-doors hands-off demo Dexerto was invited to, I got to see the same mission played three times. The end goal was to assassinate a target, though the way in which said target was revealed felt entirely unique for this entry in the AC series. Where in previous iterations, Ubisoft would hold the player’s hand, guiding them directly to where they’re supposed to be, Shadows takes a back seat in that regard. To find the target, you’re left with a trail of clues. It’s your job to piece them together and discover the path forward. There don’t seem to be any clear objective markers pointing you toward the target. Instead, you have to do the leg work and get the lay of the land. In this particular instance, it was revealed the target took shelter in a nearby castle, defended by dozens of skilled samurai. By eavesdropping on some conversations, we found that the soon-to-be-assassinated liked to go for some nightly strolls. From those details, you’re able to put together a game plan: barge in as Yasuke, letting the target know well in advance he’s in danger; wait for nightfall and stick to the darkness as Naoe, dealing a lethal blow without any of their security wise to it; or maybe you’d prefer a mix of the above. We saw this one encounter play out in three vastly different ways, showcasing how Shadows is a real evolution on the formula, not just another iteration building on the last, but rather a proper leap forward. Yasuke – A real historical figure packing a real punch In one of the options, we saw Yasuke go in guns blazing, technically. While Yasuke does indeed carry a firearm of sorts, at this point in time — with the arquebus only just making an impact in Japan — gunplay isn’t necessarily the wisest option. While we saw one devastating shot damn near decapitate its victim, don’t expect to be firing off multiple rounds in quick succession. With multiple heavy melee weapons equipped, along with some hefty samurai armor to boot, Yasuke stormed his way through the castle’s defenses, clearing wave after wave, sometimes striking multiple foes at once with cleaving blows. Before long, Yasuke made his way to the target, took him out with no hesitation, and that was that. It’s an exhilarating style of play and lends itself to more recent entries in the AC franchise, but it’s far from the only option. Naoe – Striking from the shadows In another take on the mission, we saw Naoe take center stage. Timing her approach at the dead of night, Naoe leaped from rooftop to rooftop, analyzing each section of the castle and its surroundings before making her next move. With a handy grapple hook of sorts, Naoe is an expert in swift traversal, unlike Yasuke who’s a bit too big to be sneakily leaping overhead. Diving down from above, Naoe can perform all sorts of assassinations that fans of the franchise are sure to feel right at home with. Sticking to the darkness is your best bet too, and thankfully, Naoe has many ways to manipulate the environment. In one well-lit hallway, throwing a Kunai at some lamps extinguished their flame and painted the area in darkness. Dimming the light helps keep Naoe undetected. Not only that but sightlines are extremely important too, as going prone on one side of a roof may keep you hidden when the suspense ramps up. In another moment, Naoe dove underwater, picking out a handy bamboo stick to poke above the surface, letting her breath for as long as you’d like to scout out your surroundings. Stealth is well and truly a core pillar here once again and it looks to be a delightful option. What’s important to note, however, is these distinct playstyles are indeed just that — options. Technically, Naoe can go in with an aggressive style and Yasuke can try to stay off the beaten path and sneak his way in. Though as you might expect, they’re not particularly strong at playing to the other’s strengths, it can be done. As we saw in the third and final version of the demo, Naoe is no slouch with hand-to-hand combat, Wielding a Meteor Hammer with a scythe attached, the protagonist was able to slice through not just enemies in her path, but even the environment, chopping down trees on her way to chopping the head off the main target. A sprawling, lively depiction of Japan at war Spanning across multiple years, make no mistake about it, Shadows is set to be an enormous game. While we saw just a quick vertical slice played out in a few different ways, the scope of the experience beyond that one section appears staggering. Beginning in 1579, we pick up with Yasuke as he arrives in Japan alongside Jesuit missionaries. The first character in AC history to reflect a real historical figure, we follow Yasuke’s journey from humble servant to beloved samurai under Oda Nobunaga’s command. We know for certain Yasuke doesn’t even meet his future leader until 1581, and filling in the blanks that follow, we know Yasuke’s tale spans even further beyond. On the other hand, Naoe’s origins are a little unclear, but we know she’s the fictional daughter of Fujibayashi Nagato, the former leader of the Iga ninjas. At some point in her dealings with Nobunaga’s ‘unifying’ efforts, Naoe stumbled into Yasuke, and together, the two pair up to change the course of history. That brief description alone barely scratches the surface of what Shadows looks to entail. A narrative spanning multiple years, gameplay stretching across multiple distinct regions in Japan, systems designed to reward all different playstyles, you really could go on. It’s an extraordinarily ambitious undertaking and should Ubisoft execute on its vision, it’ll scratch the itch for AC fans old and new alike, making it the perfect step forward for the iconic franchise.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows gameplay trailer has fans “quietly optimistic” – Dexerto
Assassin’s Creed Shadows gameplay trailer has fans “quietly optimistic” UbisoftFollowing the Assassin’s Creed Shadows gameplay trailer shown at the Xbox Games Showcase, fans have revealed that they are “quietly optimistic” about the upcoming title. Assassin’s Creed Shadows is one of the most eagerly anticipated games in the franchise. Since the series launched, fans have wanted Ubisoft to tackle the feudal Japan era. After all, nothing screams master assassin like a stealthy shinobi. Now, after years of waiting, the developers have the perfect opportunity to make good on this highly requested setting. Despite complaints surrounding the game’s pre-order pricing and historical figures, the response to Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ gameplay has been positive. Ubisoft revealed its first gameplay trailer at this year’s Xbox Games Showcase, giving players a sneak peek into both the environments and its two main characters. One of the biggest moments was the demonstration of Naoe’s parkour sequence, which showed the shinobi effortlessly swinging between castle rooftops with her grappling hook, and performing deadly takedowns with her hidden blade. “It looks like they changed up the parkour. This honestly looks really great, more stealth mechanics and better combat,” wrote one player. “I had some hope for this game because the last AC I played was Odyssey and I really liked it. I’m honestly pumped for this.” Other commenters were also keen to point out just how big Yasuke is compared to other characters and enemies – an area that directly impacts combat. While Yasuke can use stealth, his bulky armor and overall size make it hard to infiltrate a camp. To make up for this, the legendary samurai excels at combat, using his strength and masterful katana strikes to cleave a path through his enemies. “It’s kind of cool that the samurai main character is so much bigger than the other enemies,” wrote one player. “Like I’m so used to the main character always being the same size as the enemies, and sometimes a little smaller. I’m much more interested in playing as the samurai than the assassin.” While the majority of the Assassin’s Creed community praised the game for its removal of modern-day setting, which will now be told through Assassin’s Creed: Infinity, some were saddened by this news. “Choppy frame rate aside, this looks incredible, I want to be cautiously optimistic but I’m hyping myself too much. Extremely sad to hear that the modern-day stuff isn’t going to be a thing though, but sadly, it looks like I’m alone in this feeling,” replied one commenter. “I’m just finishing up on Vallhala and as little presence it had, the modern-day developments blew my f*cking mind, I really thought they were on their way to getting back on track for that.” Assassin’s Creed Shadows certainly looks to be the most ambitious game in the series to date, featuring a large variety of weapons, historical figures, and a detailed map. So, hopefully, it can live up to the hype and deliver an experience that wows the community.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows fans think they’ve uncovered the game’s map – Dexerto
Assassin’s Creed Shadows fans think they’ve uncovered the game’s map UbisoftThe Assassin’s Creed Shadows community believes they have found the real-world location of the game’s map using a combination of official art and hints dropped by the game’s official X account. This entry in the popular franchise is finally taking players to Japan, and fans were quick to begin deducing just where on the island the game will take place. Thanks to an image on a special edition of the game, as well as some puzzles released on X, the Assassin’s Creed fanbase believes they have figured it out. Here is a look at the World Map of #AssassinsCreed Shadows, as portrayed in the Collector’s Edition of the game! — Access The Animus (@AccessTheAnimus) May 15, 2024 The game’s map will feature “”9 distinct regions””! pic.twitter.com/dEaHu3H6k7 As mentioned, the first clue came from a map included as part of the Collector’s Edition. Fans were able to match its shape to a section of the island roughly around the Osaka area. This was further corroborated when some eagle-eyed fans spotted a series of numbers in the bio for the official Assassin’s Creed X account. The community decoded these numbers to reveal X and Y coordinates of a graph that was shared in the account’s header. When dots were placed at each coordinate on the graph, they formed a shape that looks identical to the map shown on the Collector’s Edition. Comparing the shape of the graph to various areas of Japan, it does look that it is representing the Kansai region of Japan, that comprises Kyoto and Osaka! — Access The Animus (@AccessTheAnimus) May 14, 2024 Is this going to be the map of the game? What is your opinion about this? pic.twitter.com/gEgMlte4z2 So, Assassin’s Creed Shadows fans superimposed this shape over a map of Japan to show that it does, in fact, cover that section near Osaka, near the middle of the island. This area is known as the Konsai region and also encompasses Kyoto. Of course, this could be only a section of the map. Creative director Jonathan Dumont has compared the map’s size to that of Origins, the first of the massive RPG entries in the series. This title’s map was open-world but noticeably smaller than those of Odyssey and Valhalla, the next two games. This seems to indicate the devs are looking for a smaller map than those two. This follows suits with last year’s entry, Mirage, that saw a smaller map being used after criticism from fans about the size of Odyssey and Valhalla. It looks like Ubisoft is going to continue this focus on a smaller playground. Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set for release on November 15, so there are sure to be more details offered as its launch gets closer and hype continues to build.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows fans call it a “huge improvement” over Valhalla & Odyssey – Dexerto
Assassin’s Creed Shadows fans call it a “huge improvement” over Valhalla & Odyssey UbisoftAssassin’s Creed players believe Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ gameplay is a “huge improvement” over Valhalla & Odyssey. Assassin’s Creed Shadows fans were “quietly optimistic” following the Xbox Games Showcase, which gave us a sneak peek into the game’s world. However, the Ubisoft Forward gameplay trailer has the community even more hyped. During the presentation, the devs delved deeper into the game’s two protagonists, Yasuke and Naoe – showcasing the weighty combat system and deadly stealth mechanics. We even got a glimpse at how certain weapons like the Kanabo and Kusarigama function. While Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ November 15 release may be a while away, players already believe the game is a “huge improvement” over Valhalla & Odyssey. “Not gonna lie looks great and an improvement on Valhalla,” wrote one player on the official Assassin’s Creed Reddit. “Facial animations in dialogue scenes also seem to be an improvement over Odyssey and Valhalla. Also, I’m not too worried about the voice acting for now since most of the dialogue in this AC gameplay walkthrough isn’t that good.” As a ‘work in progress’, the combat looks leagues better than Origins, Syndicate, Valhalla, and even Mirage,” another comment agreed. “I know people liked Origins but even that went a little floaty. I just could never enjoy how ‘plasticky’ it felt there.” “I watched the entire gameplay and it really looks like a big improvement. Movement, combat, stealth. Everything looks dope as f*ck. They really cooked with this one!” One area many fans were keen to highlight was just how good the game’s animations looked compared to previous games in the series. This was especially true when it came to Naoe’s stealthy takedowns and parkour sections. One player explained: “Naoe seems to have smooth animations, I like that she blends with the darkness and the crawling looks interesting, same for the grappling hook, glad it’s not just an instant climb/traverse and that you can do air assassinations while swinging, overall the stealth was very interesting.” Fans even noted just how weighty Yasuke’s combat felt, particularly when using the Kanabo, a two-handed club that can crush armored samurai. “I absolutely love how the armor gets broken in real-time during the combat,” replied one commenter. “Overall it is still a huge improvement over the previous games. the stealth however looks very engaging and well done. The game world is very beautiful as well.” If you’re still itching for more Assassin’s Creed Shadows information, then check out our interview, where we got to speak with the game’s director about the game’s dual protagonists, setting, and more.

Late in 2023, an Insider Gaming report claimed two heroes would headline the Feudal Japan-set adventure. The reveal has since confirmed as much. Yasuke, a historical figure, will star as the title’s Samurai character, with the fictional hero Naoe playing the part of a Shinobi. In the above character breakdown video, Associate Narrative Director Brooke Davies noted that very little is known about Yasuke, an African man who landed in Japan in 1579 – the time at which AC Shadows’ story begins. Yasuke’s real-life connections with the Jesuits, Portuguese, and other figures like Japanese daimyō Oda Nobunaga helped inform how the game’s developers integrated facts into this piece of Assassin’s Creed fiction. Meanwhile, Naoe hails from the Iga province, which is “known as the birthplace of Shinobi.” Though she’s not a historical figure, the creative team incorporated antiquity into Naoe’s personal narrative by making her the daughter of an actual legendary Iga Shinobi, Fujibayashi Nagato. The protagonists, thus, come to the events of Shadows from different sides, since Yasuke and Oda Nobunaga launch an attack against Iga. Their differing perspectives will also factor into their playstyles, with Yasuke’s Samurai build favoring combat while Naoe as a Shinobi emphasizes stealth. Does AC Shadows always need to be online? It was initially reported that Assassin’s Creed Shadows would require a mandatory Internet connection and would be a fully online game. The official Assassin’s Creed Twitter/X account has now confirmed that an Internet connection is only needed to install the game. Once it’s installed, you can enjoy Assassin’s Creed Shadows offline without needing to connect to the Internet. Assassin’s Creed Shadows devs changed Naoe’s design for all the right reasons – Dexerto
Assassin’s Creed Shadows devs changed Naoe’s design for all the right reasons UbisoftThe Assassin’s Creed Shadows protagonist Naoe didn’t always have the design we see in the trailer – and after seeing her previous style, it’s clear the devs made the right choice altering her look. Plenty of elements change dramatically before a video game is fully released, whether it’s a questline, a location on the map, or even an entire character design – and Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ resident shinobi Naoe is no different. Interestingly, the version we see in the trailer wasn’t her original design, with her repping a much more generic ninja outfit instead of the classic Assassin’s hood and more befitting clothes. While both styles do look great, the changed design is undeniably the better option as it fits perfectly into the Assassin’s Creed style many know and love. From the hood, the more refined hidden blade, and even the classic belt of weapons, it just screams Assassin as opposed to the more generic design of its predecessor. Thankfully, Ubisoft has still kept some homages to traditional Japanese clothing, with her shoes, leg braces, and layered cloth style still being expertly worked into the new outfit. Such praise has been echoed among the community with many praising the change in design. Some commented that it feels more traditional, stating: “I definitely like her new design a lot more. It’s more discrete and definitely has farmer/villager vibes, which makes a lot of sense for a shinobi.” However, others weren’t convinced, with some revealing that they much preferred the previous style. In fact, plenty of players were hoping to see her old look returning in a different outfit choice. Assassin’s Creed games typically allow you to change a character’s outfit, so it’s entirely possible that fans could revisit either design or explore brand-new ones when the game is released. Even so, thanks to the design change, it’s clear Naoe is shaping up to be one badass and incredibly stealthy shinobi.
