Shroud explains why the new Apex Legends map is so good Respawn / shroudPopular twitch streamer Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek revealed why he’s thoroughly enjoying the new Apex Legends map, World’s Edge, which was released in Season 3: Meltdown. The third season of the popular battle royale game came along with many changes to the gameplay, including the addition of a new character, Crypto on October 1. Respawn also introduced a brand new map for Apex Legends players to experience and the former CS:GO pro can’t seem to get enough of it. Shroud seemed to have no problem adapting to the new map, picking up multiple high kill wins as many have come to expect from the popular streamer. Although many players enjoyed the open spaces of Kings Canyon, the Twitch star revealed that he was a fan of the new map’s design while wrapping up his first stream on the new patch. “The verticality of this map looks way better than the old one? Yeah, I really like the design of it, I love the design of it I’m a big fan. There’s a lot more long-range poking, looking around, up and down, it’s fun.” Although most fans seem to be enjoying the changes which came along with Season 3: Meltdown, many were concerned about the removal of the map they had grown so accustomed to, King’s Canyon. However, developer Drew McCoy explained the reasoning for removing the game’s first battlegrounds and hinted that it could make its return in the near future. World’s Edge has also introduced new biomes for Apex Legends that fans can experience such as the icy terrain near the Epicenter or molten lava that can damage players surrounding the Dome. There’s also a Halloween event coming soon, with lots of exciting content planned for the coming weeks throughout the third season.

Shroud explains why players will “hate” Apex Legends solo mode – Dexerto
Shroud explains why players will “hate” Apex Legends solo mode Twitch: Shroud / RespawnMichael ‘shroud‘ Grzesiek, ex-CS:GO professional turned full-time Twitch streamer, is well known for his battle royale exploits, but reckons that Apex Legends much-anticipated solo mode won’t go down well with fans, despite being one of the most requested features. Even Respawn Entertainment themselves, developers of Apex Legends, said that a solo mode was “one of the most fan-requested features since launch” – but shroud doesn’t think it will be very popular. Speaking to his tens of thousands of viewers on August 7, shroud explained that the solo mode, while highly anticipated, simply “won’t work” given the game’s core design. Apex Legends was developed with three-player teams in mind, with various abilities tailored specifically for team play. For example, Lifeline’s fast revive and shield ability will be rendered useless, and it’s unclear how the loot pool will be rebalanced for solo mode. When asked how he thinks Respawn will balance for solos, shroud was pessimistic: “Chances are, they’re not going to [balance abilities in solos], which is why the game isn’t going to be very good in solos. I don’t think it will be that popular in solos. “I think it will come out for limited time, for two weeks, people are going to try it, they’re going to hate it,” Shroud continues, “and then [Respawn] will pull it and they probably won’t do it again.” Shroud explains that if the developers really want the game to work in solos, they have to “rebalance the whole game for solo”, but doesn’t believe the developers will do so. As one of the most popular Apex Legends streamers on Twitch, shroud will no doubt try out the new solo mode, but he doesn’t seem as keen on the idea as the majority of the player base. Solo mode is set to go live for a limited time on Tuesday, August 13, running until August 27. As part of the limited time event, dubbed the ‘Iron Crown Collection’, various new skins and other cosmetic items are also expected to be added.

Shroud explains why new Apex Legends map is better than Kings Canyon – Dexerto
Shroud explains why new Apex Legends map is better than Kings Canyon shroud (Mixer)/EAFollowing Respawn’s revival of Apex Legends’ beloved Kings Canyon, Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek has given World’s Edge the crown of the best map. Since February 21 onwards, Legends everywhere have been basking in some Kings Canyon action, after Respawn added the popular map back into rotation for a limited time. Available until February 24, players can flick between World’s Edge and the Apex Games’ original stomping grounds to their heart’s content. And while most players are reveling in the nostalgia, shroud has a very different opinion to Solace’s Apex Games arena. While queuing for a match on the limited-time map, the 25-year-old weighed in and said: “I still think the new map is better than Kings Canyon… It was fun while it lasted, but the map (in my opinion) plays better.” Grzesiek discussed the rationale behind his decision with former CS:GO teammate, Tyler ‘Skadoodle’ Latham. “There’s a lot of buildings, there’s a lot of cover – and the buildings are big, you know?” shroud opened. “Here the buildings are tiny!” While landing near Bridges, shroud continued to argue his case, stating that “World’s Edge just has so much loot” in comparison to Kings Canyon. Of course, as fate would have it, the Mixer streamer scurried around for loot but was left empty-handed, leaving him unable to help his downed teammate. Just to add insult to injury, shroud eventually made his way through Caves, where he stumbled across a Supply Bin which ironically gave him a Common Body Armor. After snagging the armor, shroud sarcastically commented: “Oh, good old Kings Canyon, how I don’t miss you,” to clapback at the map’s supposed poor loot. Needless to say, plenty of Legends will be lapping up each and every second of Kings Canyon during its limited availability. Although, the map will be returning to the Ranked Playlist from March 24 – May 25, so players will only have one month to wait until they can back into the thick of the action on Kings Canyon.

Shroud explains why leaked Evolving armor in Apex Legends is “really cool” – Dexerto
Shroud explains why leaked Evolving armor in Apex Legends is “really cool” Shroud – Mixer / Respawn EntertainmentHearing about Apex Legends’ leaked ‘Evolving’ body shield for the first time, star streamer Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek fell in love with the concept. Evolving armor was first leaked in Apex Legends back in September of 2019 after data-miners discovered it in the Voidwalker event’s game files. When equipped, this armor would start off at the base Level 1 and improve as the player got more kills, with the potential to ramp up all the way to Level 4, giving the player an additional 125 health points. Shroud, who hasn’t played much Apex Legends since September, heard about this leak for the first time while streaming the new Third-Person limited-time mode in the Grand Soirée Arcade Event. “That is an interesting mechanic,” he said, becoming more and more invested in the idea. “I never thought of that, that is really interesting.” “So, essentially, everybody starts off at a level playing field and whoever is farming harder, as in frag-wise or damage-wise, they get better buffs. That’s crazy, that is really cool, actually.” The more he thought about the mechanic, the faster his brain worked at analyzing all of the potential positives that such a thing would bring to the battle royale. While some may argue against this idea because it would reward more aggressive players, shroud doesn’t think that’ll be the case. “Because you think ‘Okay, if you just hold W, you’re going to win,’ but that’s not true,” he continued. “I’m going to have to see how that’s utilized, but that is a really good idea. I really like that, if they can do it right. I’m sure they’ll do some testing.” (Segment begins at 0:48 mark for mobile users) Seeing as how much shroud loved the idea of this Evolving body shield, if it were added to the game, he might be more keen on returning to the battle royale he was pretty much the face for in the first half of 2019. However, over the past few months, he hasn’t really been playing Apex Legends. This is partly due to his love for Escape from Tarkov, but also because the game has gotten stale for him, limiting his interest to hopping on here and there to try out a new mode or something of that sort. He recently admitted that Respawn would have to make several major changes to the game for him to return, such as changes to the weapon and Legends meta and for the title to become “more adaptive” – something for which Evolving armor could be a big part.

Shroud explains why hot-dropping in Apex Legends is “stupid” – Dexerto
Shroud explains why hot-dropping in Apex Legends is “stupid” Superstart Twitch streamer Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek is not a fan of the concept of hot-dropping in Apex Legends, and he’s now revealed the reason why. Hot-dropping is a term in Apex Legends that refers to the practice of landing on certain areas of the map that are known to attract a lot of players from the get-go. A lot of players like to hot-drop because not only does it increase the likelihood that they will find the best loot, such as in the designated Hot Zone, but it also gives them a chance to get into some early gunfights. Shroud, however, does not believe that this is an effective strategy. In fact, the former CS:GO pro contends that hot-dropping is actually “stupid” and makes no sense. “The hot-drops are stupid as hell,” he said. “Everyone is hot-dropping but they don’t realize how dumb it is to hot drop.” As for why Shroud has such a negative opinion of hot-dropping, he explained that the two main reasons for why players hot-drop are possible to achieve without having to land at locations infested with players. “There’s no reason to hot-drop in this game at all,” he explained. “There’s loot everywhere, right? It’s all about the same. And each game lasts 15-20 minutes long, it’s not like a fucking hell of a commitment. You’re going to find action regardless.” “If you hot-drop, you’re going to waste more time trying to get your good action than actually just fucking playing the game,” he went on. “Hot-drop works in PUBG because PUBG takes three million years.” Prior to breaking down why hot-dropping is not the brightest strategy in Apex Legends, Shroud revealed that his main issue with the concept is that it’s been causing the game to feel “boring” lately. Since so many players choose to hot-drop, many end up falling in the early stages of each match, causing the middle phase to become both drawn out and devoid of any action.

Shroud explains why he’s stopped playing Apex Legends or Warzone every day – Dexerto
Shroud explains why he’s stopped playing Apex Legends or Warzone every day Twitch: Shroud, Respawn Entertainment, ActivisionTwitch star Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek has battled it out for years in battle royales like Apex Legends, PUBG, and Warzone, but the popular creator is growing tired of the hugely saturated genre. Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends is one of few battle royale’s to soar significantly, considering how saturated the genre has become. Shroud has sunk plenty of hours into Apex, as well as rival games like Warzone, PUBG, and he’s even dabbled in Fortnite. Despite giving way to some incredible gameplay moments over the years, shroud isn’t as passionate about the genre as he used to be. Shroud’s passion for Apex Legends and more has faded During his April 1 Twitch stream, shroud was getting into a session on Apex Legends, just to keep his skills in tip-top shape. Seeing as he’s been taking a break from battle royales recently, one fan asked if there are “any issues with the game that are keeping you away specifically?” in relation to Apex Legends. Shroud didn’t hesitate with his response, simply stating: “No, I’m just not into BRs right now I don’t think. I don’t really care for BRs, at all. That’s the only thing that keeps me away.” It isn’t surprising that shroud has seemingly fallen out of love with battle royale titles, given how he previously stated the genre had become “boring.” Shroud continues to hop in and out of Apex Legends, but it’s been quite some time since the streamer was dominating over any BR. Over the last few months, shroud’s viewers have gradually seen the former CS:GO pro dive more into MMORPGs such as Lost Ark and New World. Whether it is something completely different or a familiar title to his audience, the streamer continues to stand tall within the top 20 most followed Twitch streamers, proving he can make any game entertaining.

Shroud explains why he’s “jealous” of Apex Legends controller players – Dexerto
Shroud explains why he’s “jealous” of Apex Legends controller players Respawn Entertainment / Mixer: shroudPopular Mixer streamer Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek has explained why he’s “jealous” of controller player in a February 13 Apex Legends stream. There has been a lot of debate around the difference between controller and mouse and keyboard players, particularly with the rise of Fortnite and cross-platform play that came with it. Now, though, shroud has explained why controller players in Apex Legends have got it so good when asked about handling recoil in the game, especially in comparison to mouse and keyboard players. While trying out Season 4, someone in shroud’s chat said that mouse has “too much recoil” in the game – which he read out and shared his thoughts on. “When compared to a controller, yeah, sure,” he said. “In this game, recoil isn’t too hard to control.” He went on to explain that he’s been watching some controller pros, saying “it’s crazy, dude. They beam people! They’re shooting at a guy with an R-99, and they’re just, no recoil…” He then imitated the lack of recoil, pretending to shoot in a straight line while tracking an imaginary player. Describing the lack of recoil on controller as “f**king nuts,” shroud says that he’s actually “lowkey jealous a little bit,” wishing that he could get a shot as clean as he believes it to be for controller players. This will surely be a sore point for the legion of controller players who frequently have to fight their own corner, saying that features such as aim assist are necessary if they want any chance of competing against someone playing on mouse and keyboard. Needless to say, shroud is one of the last people that should be worrying about his aim: he’s known as having one of the sharpest shots of any FPS player and is evidently a special talent when it comes to shooters. But maybe he thinks there’s still room for improvement.

Shroud explains why he’s “almost over” Apex Legends ranked play – Dexerto
Shroud explains why he’s “almost over” Apex Legends ranked play Popular Twitch streamer Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek has revealed he is already feeling the effects of ranked play in Apex Legends, suggesting he is “almost over” the new mode. After an underwhelming Season 1 battle pass left fans desperate for more content, Apex Season 2 kicked off with the launch of ranked play, allowing players to climb divisions based on their skill level. Players will start off in the Bronze rank and work their way towards becoming an Apex Predator. However, shroud may have already had enough, after alluding that he is suffering from burn out. Shroud played CS:GO professionally for years, regarded as one of the finest players in his peak, but explained that this could be the reason why other ‘competitive’ games wear off on him sooner, namely Apex Legends. Questioned why his long-term friend and teammate Tyler ‘Skadoodle’ Latham – also a CS:GO professional for many years – wasn’t playing Apex Legends as much, shroud said: “He’s probably over the way this shit plays – it’s annoying man. When you come from a really good competitive background, and you play a competitive BR, you hate it. “It is fun for a little bit, but it’s not the right way to play. It’s a fucking nightmare.” Shroud explained that he sympathized with Skadoodle, as both have put in thousands of hours into a game like Counter-Strike, and battle royale games inherently cannot match that competitiveness He said: “He’s probably just over it and I’m almost over it too. I like Apex which is why I’m still playing it, but I’m almost over it too. The ranked part of it anyway.” Judging from shroud’s comments, it seems that even with the very best ranked mode possible, Respawn wouldn’t have been able to match the ‘competitiveness’ of more tactical, less luck-based shooters, due to the nature of BR. Apex Legends’ main competitor, Fortnite, has also been criticized for coming up with a lackluster ranked playlist, another hint that the problem may be the battle royale genre, rather than the developers.

Shroud explains why he’d rather play PUBG than Apex Legends – Dexerto
Shroud explains why he’d rather play PUBG than Apex Legends Respawn Entertainment / Shroud – YouTube / PUBG Corp.Even with the recent launch of Apex Legends Season 4, star streamer Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek says he’d rather play PUBG if he had to pick one or the other. Apex Legends and PUBG are among the most well-known battle royale titles, although the two could hardly be any more different in nearly all facets of their gameplay. While Apex is certainly the more popular game now, PUBG has been around for much longer and somehow survived despite the emergence of several huge BRs, something H1Z1 can’t claim. Shroud, who has played both games for a long time and at a high level, was asked which one he’d go with if he had to pick one”for the rest of his life.” Read More: Apex Legends Season 4 update patch notes – His answer was PUBG, which may surprise a lot of people since the game’s clearly lower on the totem pole and the Mixer star doesn’t even play it nearly as much as he used to. “Probably PUBG,” he said. “PUBG has a way more rewarding and satisfying feeling than this game [Apex Legends].” Why shroud would choose PUBG over Apex Legends It’s clear that shroud enjoys the good feeling he gets from playing well in PUBG much more than in Apex Legends, as well as the fact that you can play solo in Battlegrounds, a feature still not available in Respawn’s battle royale. “In this game [Apex Legends], you don’t really appreciate anything that just happened,” he explained. “It’s really hard to put a number on it too because there are no solos in this game right? In PUBG you can play by yourself and that alone is pretty cool.” “PUBG absolutely gives you a much better feeling of happiness hitting a banger or whatever it may be. Bangers are nice.” (Segment begins at 2:53 mark for mobile users) After making an impressive play in Apex Legends, shroud pointed out how the result was satisfying but lamented the fact that it simply doesn’t happen enough, or at least as much as it does in PUBG. “That was satisfying, but you don’t get a lot, that doesn’t happen that much,” he said. “That’s what you want in a game, you want that as much as possible, and PUBG has that very, very well because you can have a Kar-98 and that whole game gives you a chance to have that same feeling, of like ‘holy f**k, I hit a banger.’” “But in this game, a banger doesn’t matter. Too many bangers in a row is what matters, and to do that is very, very challenging. It’s harder for your average player to come in and get that sense of ‘f**k yeah, that was sick!’ Way harder, probably get that more in PUBG.” The last point he made was about the level of competition since the skill-based matchmaking in Apex Legends can turn regular public matches into challenging affairs. “It’s weird, why do they have that [SBMM], it kind of makes Ranked Play irrelevant,” he commented. “PUBG is way more fun than that, I’ll tell you right now, way more fun than that. […] As unfortunate as it is, part of the fun of playing BRs is to sh*t on some noobs.” However, shroud did also note that comparing the two games isn’t as cut and dry because, again, PUBG offers a solo mode while Apex continues to only have the default trios playlist. Also, these comments came before he got to try out Season 4 on February 4, so there’s a chance, albeit a small one, that some of these opinions could change once he gets to experience the new content.

Shroud explains why Gibraltar is “broken” in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Shroud explains why Gibraltar is “broken” in Apex Legends Respawn Entertainment / shroud MixerGibraltar has been getting stronger in Apex Legends, and Mixer star Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek likes that the Shielded Fortress is a bit “broken” at the start of Season 4. Ever since the Grand Soiree Event patch update on January 14, Gibraltar has been seeing a lot more use in the Apex Games – sometimes being hailed as a tankier Lifeline that can stay alive for a long time while reviving downed teammates faster while inside the Dome Shield. The buffs have helped Gibby place higher on tier lists for Legends in the game, and the changes haven’t gone past shroud who’s been enjoying the updates to the character. “Dude, Gibraltar is f**king broken,” shroud said after finishing a match against Gibraltar. “What the f**k, that man is a tank! That shield is f**king broken.” Getting back into the Apex Legends groove, shroud was queuing up with Susquehanna Soniqs’s Noah ‘Android Dream’ Martinez and Matthew ‘WiKeD’ Robertson when noticing the big differences in Gibraltar’s potency as of late. Some players have gone so far as to say that Gibby actually needs nerfs now, seeing how vital he can be in team comp – but he’s loving it. “I kinda like how Gibraltar is though,” shroud explained in between games. “It’s just crazy how you always forget how busted that man is.” Even though Gibby has one of the bigger builds for a character, the Shielded Fortress can mow down players given his health, ability to take a hit with the Fortified passive, shield mounted on his gun barrel, and instant protection from his Dome Shield. While there might be some downsides to taking the towering Legend into the Apex Games, there are just too many upsides in his kit that makes him a crucial component for teams. Lately, shroud reaffirmed his love for PUBG over Apex Legends but, if there are more healthy changes to the game like Gibraltar’s much-needed buffs, maybe that could change in the future. With Season 4 just getting underway, it’ll be interesting to see how Respawn changes up their roster to contend against how strong they’ve made Gibby in the last few months.

Shroud explains why controllers would have an “advantage” in Apex crossplay – Dexerto
Shroud explains why controllers would have an “advantage” in Apex crossplay Mixer: shroud / RespawnMixer star Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek has explained his thoughts on crossplay between consoles and PC in Apex Legends, pointing to one key thing that would need to be fixed for it to be fair. Shroud is one of the most popular streamers out there and made a name for himself with his insane skills in first-person shooters. The Canadian has played just about every shooter at a high level after retiring from CS:GO and fans all over the world still flock to him to learn and watch incredible gameplay. He’s recently been enjoying Apex Legends and spoke about the potential of crossplay between consoles and PC for the game, citing one key issue that the devs would have to work on for it to be fair. Grzesiek took a break in-between games to answer a viewer’s question about the possibility of crossplay in Apex and immediately pointed to an issue with muzzle flash. “If they’re even considering doing crossplay muzzle flash needs to be changed or removed. That’s the advantage [of console]. It’s not so much that controllers are aimbots, the problem is that the controller is correcting you even if you’re visually impaired.” He began, before giving a specific example. “For example, shooting with the r99. The controller doesn’t have any problem, meanwhile, with a mouse, you have to correct yourself when you’re fighting indoors and face muzzle flash.” Quoted segment begins at 11:26. The Canadian does have a point, as consoles are equipped with some aim assist to make the game bearable to play. It’s very difficult to track opponents with a controller so many popular shooters add some sort of aim assist to help players who are already aiming well to stick to their opponent. This means sometimes players don’t need to aim through muzzle flash as the aim assist will help, meanwhile on PC, it is a lot more troublesome. Respawn has not commented on this potential issue, although, if there is some crossplay, they would have no doubt thought long and hard on how to make the game fair for both sides.

Shroud explains why charging Sentinel in Apex Legends is a bad idea – Dexerto
Shroud explains why charging Sentinel in Apex Legends is a bad idea Twitch: ShroudShroud has long been a fan of Apex Legends’ Sentinel sniper rifle, but many fans have been questioning whether it’s best to charge it or use it uncharged. Here’s what the FPS pro had to say. Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek is known for his impeccable aim and snappy FPS skills. In fact, the Twitch streamer invariably dominates the competition in most battle royale games. It’s not uncommon for shroud to rack up high kill count games and wow fans with his robot-like precision. Now that Apex Legends Season 7 update has gone live, shroud has returned to Respawn’s ever-popular BR. So far, the Twitch streamer has been dominating players with the Sentinel sniper rifle. From landing impressive aerial headshots to scintillating longshot kills, there’s seemingly nothing this FPS pro can’t do. However, in amongst his gameplay shroud gave his views on why Apex Legends’ Sentinel should never be charged. Why you shouldn’t charge the Sentinel The Sentinel is one of the most unique guns in Apex Legends thanks to its ‘Disruptor’ mechanic. Players can charge up the Sentinel to empower each shot and unleash deadly blasts that completely destroy an enemy’s armor. This may seem incredibly powerful but it does require decent aim, especially if you want to unleash those colossal headshot hits. Shroud has been a big fan of the Sentinel for a while, but he has now given his reasons as to why players should never charge it. “The reason why I don’t really charge the Sentinel is because the damage still results in the same amount required to get a kill if they’re full HP,” says shroud. “Yeah, they might be a little bit lower if my teammates hit them with rifle shots, so that’s good, but overall, you still need the same amount of shots, charged or not charged. You still need three body shots anyway.” Of course, charging the Sentinel will give you access to those big damage numbers, but it is often best to ping away at your foes with uncharged shots. This is especially true when you’re trying to fight multiple foes at once. Make sure you follow @TitanfallBlog for all the latest Apex Legends news and updates.

Shroud explains his thoughts on the Apex Legends Wingman nerf – Dexerto
Shroud explains his thoughts on the Apex Legends Wingman nerf Twitch / shroudThe first major balance update for Apex Legends was released on March 6, with hot topics such as the Wingman pistol and hitboxes addressed – and streamer Michael ‘shroud‘ Grzesiek has weighed in on the changes. Shroud was one of the many ‘influencers’ who participated in Apex Legends’ development, helping Respawn Entertainment with various gameplay decisions, and is even credited with suggesting the predictive recoil system. He’s also one of the best players, with his natural skill for FPS games on PC allowing him to excel – particularly with the so-called “higher-skill” weapons, namely the Wingman. The Wingman is a high-powered revolver, which rewards players who are accurate by dealing out 45 damage per shot to the body at all ranges – so you can only imagine what a player with such pinpoint accuracy like shroud can do with it. But has the March 6 nerf to the Wingman, which reduced hip fire accuracy and rate of fire, done enough? Shroud definitely doesn’t think so, stating: “I don’t think they did anything really. That was not the right nerf. If they were going to nerf the fire rate, they needed to really nerf it, or don’t touch the fire rate at all, and just nerf the damage. But, instead, they literally did nothing.” While this was shroud’s initial thoughts on the matter, he changed his tune slightly after getting a chance to extensively test out the changes. This was before I actually tested it.. fake news PepeHands, don’t trust these posts broyos pic.twitter.com/l60egGCOO3 — Michael Grzesiek (@shroud) March 7, 2019 Later on in this same stream, shroud clarified that the nerf was actually better than he originally thought. Although this seems to be a topic of debate in the Apex Legends community, as some still feel that the nerf wasn’t enough and the weapon is still a bit too strong. As for other changes, or rather lack thereof, shroud explains that Respawn’s reluctancy to buff the Mozambique and P2020 (two notoriously weak weapons) is because they actually want some guns to be noticeably less powerful, to create a hierarchy of sorts in loadouts. There is still time for these changes to settle in, and Respawn will be monitoring all feedback as well as gameplay data in order to determine if these changes were effective or not.

Shroud explains why Apex Legends Season 4 is the most exciting one yet – Dexerto
Shroud explains why Apex Legends Season 4 is the most exciting one yet Respawn / ShroudStreamer Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek may have stepped away from Apex Legends, but it sounds like the release of Season 4 could see him play what was once his go-to battle royale more regularly. With a new legend (or two), a new weapon, and some map updates expected, there’s a lot to look forward to for Apex fans. But, it’s no secret that shroud has gone off Respawn’s battle royale, more often found playing and streaming Escape from Tarkov instead. He’s already confirmed that he will try the new season when it arrives and has now explained why Season 4, more than other before, has got him excited, even after his long break away from the game. His excitement for this season actually stems back to before Apex Legends was even released. Shroud was one of a handful of top streamers to be invited to Respawn to help the development of the game. With this exclusive access, the former CS:GO pro was given lots of insight into the studio’s future plans, and in previous seasons, has had a pretty good idea about the new content that was going to be added. But, this time around, he’s more out of the loop than ever before. “I’m excited for [Season 4],” he said on his Mixer stream, “this is actually the first time in Apex updates that I actually don’t know [what’s coming]. Actually, that’s not true, I do know what’s coming – not all of it though.” When is Season 4? Despite his excitement, shroud did say that he won’t be jumping in right away on the first day that Season 4 releases, on February 4. He has an off-day from streaming set for that day, but will try it out for the first time on Wednesday, February 5. So far, we know there will be a new legend for Season 4, and all signs are pointing to Revenant, after he murdered Forge in cold blood in a teaser trailer. Forge was initially announced as the new legend, although his future is now unknown, if he has one at all. A Respawn developer has said Forge is definitely dead, but eagle-eyed fans believe there are clues to suggest it was actually a body-double that was killed. Shroud explained that he wants a major meta shift, and nothing could be more major than two brand new legends. Past seasons have only added one though, so there’s no guarantees yet.

Shroud explains why Apex Legends “doesn’t sound appealing” anymore – Dexerto
Shroud explains why Apex Legends “doesn’t sound appealing” anymore Once one of the biggest Apex Legends streamers in the world, superstar streamer Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek recently said the game wasn’t appealing and revealed the only way he’d still be willing to play it. When Apex Legends first released in February of 2019, shroud was heavily involved with the game, both in terms of streaming it and providing feedback to developers Respawn Entertainment. However, of the past few months, he’s taken a noticeable step away from the battle royale, instead choosing to play Escape from Tarkov, which he’s raved about on numerous occasions. During a mid-December stream, he decided to take a break from Tarkov, however, expressing interest in wanting to play something else. The choice came down to either Apex or PUBG, and despite calling both ‘not appealing,’ he ultimately chose the latter. “Let’s see what games I have installed,” he said. “Sucks because Apex and PUBG, they just don’t sound very appealing, at all actually.” Why not Apex Legends? It turns out that shroud actually doesn’t have much fun on the game anymore, except if he’s playing in a full three-man party with two other players. “Apex is only fun if you get a group of three and then you just f**king plow, you know?” he explained. “But if you’re not playing Apex with a group of three, it’s not that much fun.” He’s also not the only one to make it clear they feel this way. In fact, many in the Apex player-base have repeatedly asked Respawn to add regular playlists for Solos and Duos. After several months of requests, the devs finally did add the alternate modes, but both playlists were available only for a limited time and the main ranked mode still remains as trios. A shift for shroud This is obviously a far cry from earlier in the year when the Mixer star streamed the game for hours every day, weeks at a time when he was still on Twitch. In fact, some of his best numbers as a Twitch streamer came when he was grinding Apex, reportedly surpassing 114,000 subscribers at one point in March and earning the title of the most subscribed-to channel on the platform at the time. Now, he predominantly focuses his content around Escape from Tarkov and some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare sprinkled in. And if there’s one streamer who’ll play what they want regardless of the numbers they pull, it’s shroud.

Shroud explains why Apex Legends crossplay will never be “balanced” – Dexerto
Shroud explains why Apex Legends crossplay will never be “balanced” Twitch: shroud / RespawnMichael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek, ex-CS:GO pro turned full-time Twitch streamer, has explained why crossplay in Apex Legends, and other video games, will never be “perfect” or right for competitive play. A few years ago the idea of Xbox, PlayStation, and PC players in the same lobby would have attracted nothing but confused faces. Now, though, more and more video games are incorporating crossplay into their multiplayer modes, including Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Warzone. Naturally, the incorporation has sparked debate and reignited the controller vs mouse and keyboard discussion. Shroud, though, believes that is the crux of the problem, and the main reason why crossplay will never be balanced, despite being the ‘future’ of video games. Speaking on Apex Legends, the 27-year-old said: “It’ll never be balanced, that’s what sucks. Like you get rid of aim assist, then controller sucks. You have aim assist, then controller’s too strong. Like there’s no perfect balance there and it sucks because crossplay really is the future of gaming for sure. I wanna be able to play with anybody I can. It’s just a tricky thing that’ll never get fixed, because there’s no fix really.” Because of the greater precision available from mouse aiming, aim assist is used as a balancing factor for those on controller. However, some on PC feel it is generally too strong, and goes too far in aiding controller players hitting their shots. He elaborated on his views in his July 31 Twitch stream, suggesting that the lack of balance means crossplay should be avoided in professional events. He specifically mentioned the Apex Legends Global Series, and how Apex teams seemingly have to have at least one controller player to be in with a chance of winning. “Let it exist in casual play all day,” Shroud said. “Just don’t mix in a professional environment. The fact that Apex professional teams have to have at least one minimum controller player does not sit right with me.” Despite shroud’s concerns, more and more esports are implementing crossplay, allowing competitors on all platforms to compete together. Because of that evolution, it doesn’t seem like the controller vs MnK debate will slow down, or stop, anytime soon.

Shroud explains why Apex Legends has been feeling “boring” lately – Dexerto
Shroud explains why Apex Legends has been feeling “boring” lately Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek has been grinding Apex Legends since even before it was released, and yet the superstar streamers has found the game to be a bit boring as of late. There is now doubting the notion that Shroud is one of the biggest reasons for why Apex Legends experienced an explosion of success following its release. His popularity on Twitch, combined with uncanny ability in battle royale games, made his Apex sessions must-watch, each stream producing a highlight reel of its own. However, the ex-CS:GO pro has found the game less entertaining than usual lately, and one of his reasons is simply that way too many players are getting eliminated way too early in the match. “Part of the reason for why the game is feeling so boring recently, is because everyone fucking dies at the beginning of the game!” he said. Shroud blames these increased levels of eliminations in the early stages of matches on the fact that so many are “hot-dropping,” or landing at areas of the map that are known to have higher tier loot, which leads to a lot of early-game battles and deaths. One example of this are Hot Zones, which are areas on the map where the likelihood of finding higher tier loot is massively increased. At the start of each match, one named point-of-interest is randomly chosen and designated to be the Hot Zone for the rest of the game. “The hot drops are stupid as hell!” he said. “Everyone is hot dropping but they don’t realize how dumb it is to hot-drop.” It’s not hard to understand that Shroud is actually making a very valid point as to why he feels Apex Legends has become more boring recently. With so many players cleaning each other out in the early stages of matches, the middle phases, which are already long as it is, become even more drawn out and less full of action. While there may be no direct solution, there are steps that Respawn Entertainment can take to mitigate this issue, such as raising the total player count past 60. They can also balance out landing tendencies by removing Hot Zones and hot-dropping from the game entirely, which can be done by making each location have an equal balance of high, middle, and low tier loot. Whatever the developers do decide to do, they should think fast, because if a genius like Shroud is calling the game boring, then so are many others.

Shroud lists changes needed for him to return to Apex Legends – Dexerto
Shroud lists changes needed for him to return to Apex Legends Respawn / Mixer: ShroudSince his landmark move to Mixer in 2019 shroud has barely touched Apex Legends, opting for Escape from Tarkov or Call of Duty instead. There is ways for Apex to win his heart back though, he has revealed. Shroud is yet to dive into the new Apex Legends event, Grand Soirée, leaving some fans wondering if he’s ever going back to his old stomping ground. Instead, he has dedicated his time to other first-person shooters, primarily Escape from Tarkov. Although not strictly speaking a ‘battle royale’, it does boast similar features with loot and weapons, and the struggle to stay alive. Before Tarkov and Modern Warfare though, shroud was often seen on Apex Legends, which he played frequently throughout 2019. In 2020 though, he’s yet to jump into Respawn’s BR, despite a major new event. In December, he said the game just wasn’t “appealing” to him. The Grand Soirée Arcade event adds a new limited-time mode every two days, but the former CS:GO pro has explained that he’s “not interested” in that whatsoever. “It’s not really an ‘Apex event’, it’s just a couple LTMs and stuff,” shroud said, “there’s nothing special about it.” He did say that he was intrigued by one of the LTMs though: the third person mode. “But either way, I’m not missing anything in Apex. Apex is still the same game, with a couple of new game modes that are just for fun,” he finished. Shroud wants “meta changes” in Apex Legends Clearly, shroud is looking for more than just a few LTMs to really shake up the game. “I’m more so interested in, I don’t know, maybe new characters? Meta changes,” he explained. “I’m ready to see their meta changes, with new weapons and hop-ups. I’m already ready for that. I don’t care about the actual game, I want it to change. “I want it to be adaptive, you know? It’s been the same game for a while now,” he concluded, “that’s just my thoughts.” Thankfully, it likely won’t be long until shroud gets his wish. The Grand Soirée Arcade is the final event of Season 3, with the fourth season right around the corner. Set to start on February 4, Season 4 will launch on the one-year anniversary of Apex Legends’ release in 2019. We can expect at least one new legend, and a new weapon too (expected to be a new SMG). Surely then, shroud will hop back in to the World’s Edge map, and see if Apex can hook him once again.

Shroud explains how Respawn can turn Apex Legends into a “proper esport” – Dexerto
Shroud explains how Respawn can turn Apex Legends into a “proper esport” Respawn Entertainment / Shroud TwitchTwitch star Michael ‘Apex Legends is still the frontrunner to make battle royale esports “work” but only if it makes major fixes to the game and genre. Respawn Entertainment made a huge splash in the battle royale scene when it launched its title February 4. Even though the game has experienced wave after wave of backlash for persistent bugs, Shroud still thinks it can turn it all around by making a few changes. After seeing all of the problems in the Fortnite World Cup qualifiers, Shroud says that Apex Legends still has the best shot of being the premier battle royale esport if it solves how to approach the mid-game in a match. Of course there are also the numerous bugs in Apex Legends to deal with, but with that aside Shroud says there’s a ton of potential for the title to have a healthy competitive scene. “I’m still a very firm believer in Apex Legends being the one [battle royale] that can actually fuckin pull off a proper esports game,” Shroud said. “…[Respawn] just needs to, obviously iron out all these fucking issues that they’re having and then please their casuals by adding content, but the core of the game works. They just need to find a competitive setting for it.” There are tons of issues for Respawn to “iron out,” especially when it comes to building up their pro scene, as tons of players have been asking for custom games to be implemented in Apex Legends. But according to Shroud, there are pressing issues about battle royales in general to fix in order to make the genre’s esport a lot more viable. Shroud fixes battle royale esports The former Cloud9 CS:GO pro said that battle royale’s suffer greatly in the mid-game of a given match, where players tend to hide out as long as possible in order to reach the final circle. “Battle royales need to find a way to eliminate people early to get rid of having 40 people in the last circle. If they can find a way to balance the game in the sense that there won’t be 40 people at the end circle, maybe only 10 like it should be, then yeah 100% [battle royales as esports] will work.” To do this, Shroud gave an impromptu solution that would make kills a lot more worthwhile, in that the circle would only close if a certain amount of people have been eliminated. He identified the biggest problem of that theory being that people wouldn’t move for “7 hours” just to make it until the end. But the idea could hold a possibility of finally making the endgame of battle royales less of a “cluster fuck,” according to Shroud.

Shroud explains only reason he would play Apex Legends on Kings Canyon – Dexerto
Shroud explains only reason he would play Apex Legends on Kings Canyon Mixer: Shroud / Respawn EntertainmentAfter previously saying how much better World’s Edge is than Apex Legends‘ original stomping ground, Kings Canyon, Michael ‘shroud’ Grseziek has explained the one reason he would return to play on the old map. While streaming with former CS:GO teammate Tyler ‘Skadoodle’ Latham on February 21 on Kings Canyon, shroud explained why he much prefers Worlds Edge, which was brought into the game with Season 3 in October 2019. From February 21-24, Kings Canyon came back for a limited time and shroud found that he was disappointed with the loot and the structure of buildings on the map and that, in his opinion, Worlds Edge just “plays better.” Now, though, he has said that a recently discovered easter egg on the map could bring him back. After being asked whether he would like to keep playing Kings Canyon, shroud said: “No, I’m good on that, but I would like to try the easter egg.” Explaining himself, he continued: “I didn’t know about this easter egg, but you have to do it with a group, and you can spawn a ‘Nessie’ from the water. Like, a big, giant sea monster. It’s super cool.” Nessie obviously refers to the infamous Loch Ness monster – a sea monster of the Scottish highlands – and shroud goes on to say how difficult it is to do, and that he had no idea of its existence despite seeing the occasional hints pop up on the screen. The easter egg he refers to is one that was only recently discovered, with a video depicting how shooting 10 Wattson dolls in the correct order across the map spawns the monster, which is pretty cool despite its relative lack of importance to the game itself. Whether there is a particular easter egg on World’s Edge similar to this one isn’t yet clear – it’s very possible Respawn Entertainment have put something in there that players are yet to discover. That said, clearly shroud isn’t a big fan of Kings Canyon, and it would be interesting to see whether he kept playing Apex Legends if it came back to replace World’s Edge — if not only to complete the easter egg. Kings Canyon is expected to come back into the Ranked playlist’s map rotation on March 24… Meaning that if Grseziek is planning on grinding to Apex Predator, he might be forced to go back to the Apex Games’ roots.

Shroud explains one change he would make to Apex Legends supply bins – Dexerto
Shroud explains one change he would make to Apex Legends supply bins shroud / Respawn EntertainmentSupply bins in Apex Legends are almost always great to come across – you can easily grab a weapon or shields, and even pull some high-tier loot from them. But, Shroud isn’t completely convinced and has explained one thing he would change about them. Shroud has played a healthy amount of Apex in the time since its release and has become somewhat of a master player – his Apex Predator rank can attest to that. With so much time playing the game, it’s fair to say shroud has some clear-cut opinions, and he’s spoken out about what needs to change in Apex Legends’ supply bins. Comparing the game to new battle royale title Spellbreak, shroud says: “What Spellbreak does is try to give you better RNG on what you’re missing [when opening a chest], and that’s how the loot bins should work.” He went on to explain the logistics behind this. “Every loot bin, if you’re missing shield, or you’re missing meds or whatever, it should prioritize that.” His teammate joked that it “sounds like a lot to ask for” and while shroud initially agreed, he went on to change his mind and say that he “doesn’t think it is.” (Timestamp 9:22 for mobile viewers) Sometimes the contents of a loot bin can be make or break for your success in the game depending on what you get in it, so this change would reduce the frustrating occasions when you just can’t find the last item you need. However, RNG is an expected and vital part of the battle royale genre – in itself, the games are supposed to be a little more random than your standard FPS, which is why the supply bins don’t simply give you what you need. That said, it would maybe put players on more of a level playing field if they were given items they need rather than just anything that pops up, and it would be interesting to see how that would alter the meta and gameplay in Apex Legends.

Shroud explains how Respawn could improve “terrible” Apex Legends LTMs – Dexerto
Shroud explains how Respawn could improve “terrible” Apex Legends LTMs Playing Apex Legends for the first time since the launch of the Holo-Day Bash Christmas event, superstar streamer Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek shared negative opinions about Respawn Entertainment’s Limited Time Modes and outlined how those modes could be considerably improved. Unlike earlier in 2019, when he was streaming Apex Legends most of the time, shroud hadn’t been on the popular battle royale game for a few weeks, and instead focused on Escape from Tarkov and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. However, a day after saying that the game “doesn’t sound appealing,” the former CSGO pro decided to test the Apex waters again and experience the new Holo-Day Bash in-game event for the very first time. Of course, part of that event is the new Winter Express LTM, which was the first thing he jumped into, even though he said “this sounds awful” when reading the description. That was a foreshadowing of things to come, as it’s safe to say the Mixer star did not enjoy the new mode at all. “Ok this is a game mode that I’m not going to play after this,” he said firmly. “This game mode seems questionable. This is going to be a one and done for sure. This game mode’s… something. I feel like they could have thought of a much more festive game mode than this.” Shroud says Apex’s LTMs “need work” As it turns out, shroud’s opinion on Winter Express is actually a microcosm of how he feels about Apex Legends Limited Time Modes overall. “Yeah their LTMs need work,” he said. “Their LTMs aren’t that great. So far, their LTMs have been just like – you play one round of it to see what it is and then you’re like ‘alright, this is dumb,’ and then you start playing it.” “LTMs are hard though, it’s hard to perfect LTMs,” he went on. “Solos and Duos are probably their best LTMs. Their Halloween LTM was terrible, this Christmas one is pretty bad.” (Segment begins at 4:10 mark for mobile users) How shroud would improve Apex’s LTMs Shroud went on to brainstorm some of the ways that Respawn Entertainment can improve their Limited Time Modes, the process starting with a change in the approach. “I think how they should do their LTMs is completely change the game,” he explained. “I think they’re trying too much to stay as Apex in their LTM. What they need to do is turn it into a different game, not Apex with a different goal. It should be something completely different.” He even went as far as to even make one up on the spot, giving an example of the kinds of avenues that the developers should pursue with future modes. “So here’s an example – you know what would be a good LTM?” he offered. “Take Apex’s movement and turn it into a death-run. Done. It’s like a race – first person to get past the death-run, RNG, f**king crazy sh*t’s going on, first person to get through the death-run wins” There’s no doubt a lot of players would agree with shroud’s remark about the Solos and Duos LTMs being best, with those two playlists the player-base’s most requested feature, and the most well-received once Respawn obliged players’ requests However, a lot of them have also taken a liking to this new Winter Express LTM as well, some even suggesting that its success proves Apex needs a permanent close-quarters combat mode. That said, shroud usually knows what he’s talking about when sharing suggestions about games, so it might server Respawn well to heed his advice.

Shroud explains how new Legend Wattson will change Apex Legends meta – Dexerto
Shroud explains how new Legend Wattson will change Apex Legends meta Respawn Entertainment finally confirmed that Wattson would be the tenth legend added to Apex Legends, and Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek feels her introduction could seriously shake up the game’s current meta. Revealed at EA Play on June 8 after weeks of speculation, the new legend was confirmed to be added in Season 2, alongside an eagerly anticipated ranked mode which will allow players to compete against the best of the best, and a much-improved battle pass. Wattson was confirmed to be an electricity-based legend who primarily uses defensive tactics to gain the upper hand on her enemy – her abilities enable her to defend a certain area, making her ideal for players who aren’t aggressive. Shroud watched the announcement live with his viewers and responded to claims from his chat that the new legend seemed overpowered. The former CS:GO pro disagreed with his viewers’ assertions, stating that he felt Respawn had done a good job of balancing the latest addition, but admitted it may favor campers. “She’s not OP,” he said. “She’s balanced very well. Unfortunately, if you’re a camper, you’re going to love it. But if you’re aggressive, you’re going to hate the campers.” Her defensive abilities make her ideal for bunkering down in an area and shroud – who is known for his run and gun approach – feels her skills could make aggressive players change the way they play. The Canadian added: “If you’re a defensive player, she’s going to be great and you’ll probably love her. “But if you’re aggressive, she’s not going be that good for you.” Players will have to wait just over a month to test out Wattson’s strengths for themselves with Season 2 confirmed to be released on July 2. Whether her excellent defensive abilities results in a swift meta change to a more conservative approach remains to be seen.

Shroud explains his solution for overpowered weapons in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Shroud explains his solution for overpowered weapons in Apex Legends Mixer: shroud/Respawn EntertainmentMixer star and ex-CS:GO professional Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek has vented his frustrations with Respawn Entertainment, as it becomes clear that they will not simply remove overpowered weapons from Apex Legends. While most streamers tend to stick to their favorite games, or genre of games, shroud’s versatility has seen him become one of the biggest names in the gaming community. Whether it’s FPS, battle royale or RPG, the former CS:GO pro has demonstrated his gaming talent consistently over the past few years. Despite the ability to never fully devote himself to one title, he has spent increasing amounts of time on Apex Legends of late, bringing his brand of high-level gameplay back to Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall-inspired battle royale. Recently, shroud’s criticism has entailed muzzle flash in Apex Legends and, in a February 27 YouTube video, the star turned his attention to overpowered weapons. While a game like Fortnite sees the developers remove a gun if they are struggling to balance it, Respawn Entertainment tends to persevere in their balancing efforts. While some praise this attitude, shroud believes it may be detrimental to the game. “I hate that they’re just not gonna pull guns,” he said. “I hate it, I hate it. It pisses me off, it makes me mad.” “All they [Respawn] had to do when they moved the Devotion to the pool of getting it from the crate was that they still had it in there, and then make it a 0.001% chance of getting it, so when people look back they can say “it’s there, but it’s just really rare.” The Devotion LMG is thought to be one of the best weapons in Apex, at least in the current build of the game. However, shroud clearly thinks its ease of acquisition is hurting the game. “That’s the only way they can pull a gun out of the system while not making a bad PR move,” he finished. “Because obviously if they pull a gun people are going to be pissed.” Essentially, shroud is arguing that the Devotion’s chance of appearing should be made so low that it’s essentially removed from the game, without Respawn actually having to pull it completely. It doesn’t seem like there are any plans to remove weapons from Apex Legends, despite the fact that shroud thinks the game would benefit from it. While games like Fortnite remove weapons abruptly, they are both praised and criticized for such behavior. Regardless, shroud clearly thinks the Devotion has to go. Unlike Fortnite though, Apex Legends has lots of cosmetics for weapons, meaning they couldn’t remove them without also effectively removing player’s cosmetics, which they may have paid for through coins or packs.

Shroud explains why comparing Apex Legends to Fortnite is unfair – Dexerto
Shroud explains why comparing Apex Legends to Fortnite is unfair Respawn / Twitch: ShroudApex Legends enjoyed unprecedented success in its first month of release (reaching 50 million players faster than even Fortnite Battle Royale did) and although its momentum has stagnated, Twitch star Michael ‘shroud‘ Grzesiek thinks Apex Legends still has a bright future. The problem for Apex Legends, is that its initial success was so great, the team at Respawn Entertainment were ill-prepared for it. It is believed they initially delayed the launch of Season 1 after seeing the game’s popularity, to improve it further. But even still, the Season 1 battle pass was a big disappointment for many players, and the stream of new content was deemed too slow, with only a single new weapon and legend added since launch, on February 4. Apex Legends vs Fortnite – the battle of the BR’s Unsurprisingly, Apex Legends has drawn plenty of comparisons to Epic Games’ Fortnite, both good and bad, but one area that the cartoonish BR certainly has Apex beat, is in terms of content. Shroud explains though, that Apex Legends is now in a ‘stable’ position, and can look to move forward now with a solid foundation, and grow the game naturally to compete with other top BR games. “Fortnite was a very long process, it didn’t just happen overnight” shroud states, “I think Respawn is going to do the same. They did not expect [Apex] to launch this big, they weren’t ready, that’s totally fine.” “Now, the game has stabled out, they’re going to come out with their updates, they’re going to hire more people for the team, and it’s going to take off.” In their latest blog post, Respawn alluded to the next major update coming in June for Season 2, meaning Apex Legends players will have to sit tight over the month of May. On April 23, Polygon published a report on the permanent “crunch” at Epic Games as they work on endless new content for Fortnite, with some employees working 100 hour weeks. It appears that this is the level of work is required, by a massive team, to sustain the level of content output that Fortnite manages, which is something Respawn may not be willing to emulate.

Shroud explains buff needed for the “best gun” in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Shroud explains buff needed for the “best gun” in Apex Legends Twitch: shroud/Respawn EntertainmentTwitch streamer Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek has revealed his favorite gun in Apex Legends, but has also explained the buff he thinks it needs to make it truly unstoppable. Shroud has not played a title professionally since his Counter-Strike: Global Offensive retirement back in 2017, but brings an incredibly high standard to any game he plays. It’s this, combined with his high gaming IQ that makes him qualified to assess weapons and their places within a game’s meta. Apex Legends has been criticized by players for the slow implementation of patches and adjustments, but shroud wants to see changes made to the VK-47 Flatline sooner rather than later. In a YouTube video entitled ‘The Best Gun in Apex’, shroud shows off his skills with the Flatline, racking up a number of high-kill wins using the assault rifle, but also explained some of his issues with it. Read More: Apex Legends Voidwalker event – Despite referring to the weapon as the best in Respawn’s battle royale – namely the gold variant of it – shroud still suggests some improvements, hinting that the title may be tongue in cheek. He explains that the base version of the gun struggles at long range as a result of its moderate recoil and slow fire rate, but that the gold version of the Flatline is the “best gun” in the game. However, it still needs one major buff. (Timestamp: 5:28 & 7:35) Shroud encounters an enemy team, but misses a number of shots with the Flatline. “Dude, what?” he exclaimed, shocked his bullets weren’t connecting. “Speed up the fucking bullet travel on the Flatline, please!” The guns in Apex fire projectiles, rather than hit-scan bullets, meaning there is a slight delay between the trigger being pulled and the bullet connecting, causing players to have to lead shots at long ranges. However, shroud thinks the bullet travel for the flatline is too slow, and is hindering the weapon. “They need to increase the bullet speed of this thing for sure,” he said. “Noticing it now when it compares to other weapons. I think that’s the last touch up it needs.” The base VK-47 Flatline is one of the more common weapons in Apex Legends, using heavy rounds and dealing a lot of damage, but at the expense of considerable recoil and a poor fire rate. While shroud is not necessarily a fan of the base version, he thinks the gold variant is the best weapon in the game, and this one change could make it his ideal weapon.

Shroud explains what needs to happen for Apex Legends to succeed and “fly” – Dexerto
Shroud explains what needs to happen for Apex Legends to succeed and “fly” Respawn / HyperXSuperstar Twitch streamer Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek has given his verdict on what would need to happen for Apex Legends to properly succeed. When it was first unveiled back in February, Apex Legends quickly became one of the most talked about and played games in the online gaming community. Unfortunately, it didn’t take long for the game’s popularity to plateau, as the lack of new content, multitude of bugs and hacks, and other factors really inhibited the game’s growth. To this day, there are no sure signs that the game will ever get back to the level it was at following its launch, although shroud remains optimistic that success is still possible for the battle royale. Discussing the topic with fellow Twitch star Dr Disrespect, who has also been an avid fan of the game, shroud explained the one thing that could bring prosperity back for Respawn’s creation. “Doc, I can’t wait for custom games in Apex man,” shroud said on stream. “I truly believe when there’s custom games in Apex, it’s going to fucking fly. He went on to break down why custom games will be a hugely positive addition to the game, and ultimately help it succeed. “It’ll be so fun to play that game with a full 20 squads, with good rulesets,” he explained. “If you make the rulesets about kills instead of wins, like it should be in Apex, oh my God, it’s going to be fun. I can’t wait! Using his classic dry humor, shroud snuck in a little roast aimed at the Doc at the end, first proposing to team up with the Two-Time before taking his offer back on the grounds that he “wants to win.” When will custom games be added to Apex Legends? Custom games and matchmaking hasn’t been a topic too often discussed by the developers at Respawn, so it’s likely that they will be added later rather than sooner. Respawn will probably choose to develop custom games for official tournaments and competitive matches first, before making them available to the regular player-base. This would be similar to what Epic Games did with Fortnite Battle Royale, not giving out custom matchmaking to the public until nearly a year-and-a-half after the game was first released.

Shroud drops hints about new unreleased Apex Legends content – Dexerto
Shroud drops hints about new unreleased Apex Legends content Twitch streamer Michael ‘Apex Legends, and all they have to do was wait. Apex Legends released on February 4 without any prior announcement, and has quickly become the biggest game of 2019 so far, with over 25 million players trying it out in the first week. With so many players enjoying the game, that means more people hungry for new content like a Battle Pass and new legends. According to shroud, all that and more is coming, but fans just have to be patient. During a recent stream shroud told viewers he had seen content in Apex Legends, which he had helped with during development, that wasn’t even in the current version of the game yet. “I can tell you this much ok?” He said in response to a fan question. “I saw shit 10 months ago in this game, that isn’t even in this build, alright?” Read More: Highlights and final placements from DLive Apex Legends tournament – ft. Cloud9, Team Liquid and more – Just exactly what features shroud could be talking about are still unknown, but he assured fans they would be worth the wait. “There’s gonna be some shit,” shroud said on stream. “Just wait, be patient.” (Timestamp at 4:55 for mobile users.) In a roadmap for Apex’s first year, publisher Respawn Entertainment promised a Battle Pass and the launch of the first season beginning sometime in March. Shroud himself even hinted that the season pass was coming soon towards the end of February, but at the time of writing, the pass still isn’t out. To go along with the release of Season One, the Battle Pass has to come out sometime in March, just exactly when that is is up to Respawn.

Shroud demonstrates “how bad” Revenant is in Apex Legends Season 4 – Dexerto
Shroud demonstrates “how bad” Revenant is in Apex Legends Season 4 Shroud – YouTube / Respawn EntertainmentBack on his Apex Legends grind, Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek has come to the conclusion that Season 4’s new Revenant Legend isn’t so great, and he thinks it won’t take too long for most players to realize that as well. Revenant is the new Legend introduced in Apex Legends Season 4 but his ultimate ability, called Death Totem, might not be as powerful as it was hyped up to be. The Death Totem protects teammates from elimination by spawning them back at the location where its placed instead of allowing them to get downed. However, there are some drawbacks put in place to balance out its effect. For one, those who spawn back at the Totem are only given one health to survive with. Also, when under its protection, players can’t use body shields to protect themselves, meaning that they only have 100 total health regardless of whether or not they have armor equipped. Thirdly, and perhaps most importantly, enemies can sabotage Revenant and his team if they find the ult’s location, either by laying a trap or waiting for easily take down the teammates as soon as they spawn back in with one health. One player who quickly figured this out is shroud, who has been playing a lot of Apex since Season 4 launched, and he demonstrated these major issues with Revenant during one of his recent streams. Shroud: players will learn “the hard way” about Revenant Playing in a match with Apex pro Matthew ‘WiKeD’ Robertson and girlfriend Hannah ‘Bnans’ Kennedy, shroud came across a team using Revenant’s ultimate and was easily able to take them down after realizing that their Death Totem was placed out in the open. “People are going realize the hard way how bad Revenant is,” he said, laughing. “Everyone keeps doing it. We did it, everyone’s going to do it. It sounds good in theory and then you do it and you’re like ‘wait!’” He’s referencing, of course, the temptation to use the Legend’s ult because of how good it sounds on paper, but in practice, it may end up hurting you more than helping. (Segment begins at 8:39 mark for mobile users) After their squad got the match victory, WiKeD gave a brief explanation about how the health aspect of Revenant’s ult makes it not really worth using. “You have 100 HP each fight, that’s the problem,” he said. “You sacrifice 200 to have two separate 100s, that’s the issue.” This is definitely true since under the Totem’s protection you can’t use your body armor, meaning you only have your 100 base health. If you get taken out and respawn back in, you now can use your armor’s 100 health’s worth of protection, but you only have 1 base HP under that until you can heal. The early indications are that, while Revenant may seem like a powerful Legend, he just doesn’t offer enough to break into the top-tier of characters, especially in the game’s competitive sphere. However, that’s not to say that the Synthetic Nightmare is totally useless, as there are ways to better use his abilities, which we’ve outlined in our 5 important tips and tricks to mastering Revenant guide.

Shroud criticizes “terrible” Apex Legends Deja Loot mode – Dexerto
Shroud criticizes “terrible” Apex Legends Deja Loot mode Twitch: Shroud/RespawnStreaming star Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek has revealed his thoughts on Apex Legends’ Deja Loot mode – claiming that is it “terrible” and “poorly executed.” Following the launch of Apex Legends season 4, which finally introduced Revenant as a new legend and changed parts of the World’s Edge map, Respawn Entertainment dropped a further update in the form of the Season Override event. With the addition of System Override, players were given the chance to grab some new cosmetics, use an all-new shield type, and even play the Deja Loot mode – which allows loot to respawn during games. Some fans have enjoyed the limited-time mode, yet, shroud hasn’t been a massive fan of the new game type. In his most recent stream highlights video, the former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive professional had been opening System Override event packs when one viewer asked him for his thoughts on the new limited-time mode. The Mixer streamer didn’t miss a beat and quickly responded: “What’s your real thoughts on the new game mode? Terrible. Poorly executed, as always.” Though, he didn’t offer any further thoughts about the mode before jumping into some games of Apex Legends. Segment begins at 0:50 for mobile viewers As he didn’t say anything else about the new mode, it is difficult to tell what issues that shroud has with Deja Loot. Though, his descriptive use of “poorly executed,” seemingly suggests that he may have had a few changes in mind – but didn’t decide to share them. The System Override event is set to come to a close on March 17, so the Deja Loot mode will be headed back out of the rotation. It is unlikely that the developers decide to make any tweaks before it goes away but, it remains to be seen as to whether or not they have any further limited-time game modes up their sleeves for future events.

Shroud criticizes “lame” buffs and nerfs in Apex Legends update – Dexerto
Shroud criticizes “lame” buffs and nerfs in Apex Legends update Shroud (Mixer)/EAMixer star, Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek, has weighed in on Apex Legends’ Grand Soirée update and gave his two cents on the Gibraltar buff which Respawn introduced on January 14. Shroud has planted his flag when it comes to Apex Legends’ Grand Soirée event: third-person LTM or bust. He made his stance clear, when discussing Respawn’s latest event on stream. While Grzesiek only seemed to be enticed by the prospect of third-person action in Apex Legends, he did also provide a somewhat cut-throat insight into the meta changes which have materialized off the back of the Grand Soirée update. Despite previously being partnered with EA during the opening months of Apex Legends, shroud has recently stepped away from the battle royale and invested most of his time into Escape from Tarkov. During his January 18 stream, shroud decided to dabble in the third-person mode. When catching up on the recent changes, pro player, Timothy ‘sYnceDez’ Putrow, provided a brief overview. “So they did release some buffs and nerfs, but they’re just not good buffs and nerfs?” shroud questioned. Putrow proceeded to explain that Gibraltar’s revive speed has been increased from the standard five seconds for most characters, to around two seconds while inside his Dome of Protection. Grzesiek spared no silence and cut right to the chase. “Gibraltar is a much, much better Lifeline because you can fast-heal your whole team… “And now you can quick res, in safety – in full safety – not just a front cone, full safety. So yeah, that totally eliminates Lifeline. That’s pretty lame.” Putrow then summarized Gibby’s current Passive Abilities after the update. The Legend can now both fast heal and fast revive inside of their dome, while also rocking a face shield during gunfights. Given Gibraltar’s newfound ability buff, shroud labeled Respawn’s actions as a “bad change,” before stating: “I don’t think they need to try to make a character that nobody really uses much better, they could just try to make something new instead.” The Mixer star empathized with the difficult position that Respawn are in, however, by adding that his solution would require “more development time,” which would eat into the developer’s resources and time. Despite shroud’s views, he continued to try his hand at the third-person mode. Perhaps Grzesiek will venture into the Apex Games on a more permanent basis when Season 4 launches on February 4.

Shroud criticizes Apex Legends Season 12 “battle pass meta” pressuring players – Dexerto
Shroud criticizes Apex Legends Season 12 “battle pass meta” pressuring players Respawn Entertainment / Twitch: shroudFormer CS:GO pro turned Twitch streamer Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek has shared his thoughts on Apex Legends Season 12, criticizing the game’s “battle pass meta” and saying he doesn’t enjoy feeling “pressured to play”. After much anticipation, Apex Legends Season 12 finally dropped on February 8, bringing Mad Maggie and a new game mode, Control, to the world of Respawn’s battle royale. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many players enjoying the change of pace offered by Control, a 9v9 respawn game mode that differs considerably from the standard BR that hooked so many Apex players. While shroud did have positive words to say about Control and Apex’s twelfth season more generally, he reserved some criticism for the battle pass and how it forces players to play. Speaking in his February 20 YouTube video, shroud highlighted the “battle pass meta”, arguing that the tiered rewards that accompany seasonal battle passes force players to play a certain way to ensure they level up. “God the battle pass meta is so f**king… I don’t like it anymore,” he said, flicking through the tiers. “I’m over it. I’m over the battle pass meta. I wanna go back to the days of just grinding and playing the game and seeing your tokens going up and then you just buy what you want you want.” He continued: “It’s just easy… I don’t like keeping up the battle pass – it like pressures you to play. I don’t like being pressured to play.” Timestamp: 0:32 Unfortunately for shroud, it doesn’t look like the seasonal content and battle pass system is going anywhere soon. Since Fortnite’s roaring success with the formula, many other titles (like Apex Legends and Warzone) have adopted a similar system. Many have also praised the Season 12 battle pass, hoping to unlock its highest skins and rewards. We expect to see one accompany Season 13 as well.

Shroud claims controversial Pathfinder nerf balances him in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Shroud claims controversial Pathfinder nerf balances him in Apex Legends Mixer: shroudMany Pathfinder mains were bitterly disappointed to see their favorite robot receive such a severe nerf in the Apex Legends Season 5 update, but top streamer Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek believes it was the correct move as it will balance out his abilities with similar characters. Shroud was one of the select few content creators to help Respawn in the development of Apex, and has returned to it for each new season to check out the changes. His fans and fans of Apex alike are always eager to hear the former professional CS:GO player give his verdict on the updates. This time, there is no change more controversial than the Pathfinder nerf, which saw his tactical, Grappling Hook, given a hefty cooldown increase, significantly hampering his mobility. With this nerf, Pathfinder must wait a whopping 35 seconds before using his grappling hook again, an increase of 20 seconds over the previous 15s cooldown. The ability is similar to Wraith’s Into the Void or Loba’s Burglar’s best friend, which both allow for quick escapes from trouble when in a gunfight. Pathfinder now in-line with other Legends Shroud explains that this is likely the reason Respawn chose to nerf Pathfinder’s grapple, as it brings him more in-line with the cooldowns of other Legends. “I think it’s mainly because Loba and Wraith’s [cooldowns] are pretty high. They’re supposed to act the same, like you probably only get one of these [abilities] in a fight, but with Pathfinder you could get away with like two,” shroud explained during his May 13 Mixer stream. Shroud argues that each legend should only be able to use their ‘escape’ ability once per fight, and having only a 15 second cooldown was allowing Pathfinder to use his grapple much more than once per fight. Compared to the other Legends with similar abilities, this was much stronger, and led to Pathfinder becoming arguably the best character to use in the game overall. His advanced movement was not only unrivaled by other Legends, but also was available more frequently. Revenant was another character intended to have incredibly advanced movement when he was added to the game, but players soon found he was no match for Pathfinder. Of course, as Shroud’s teammate notes, it’s possible for Respawn to make adjustments to the cooldown if it really is too long, and bring Pathy back up to speed.

Shroud catches blatant Apex Legends hacker in Ranked Play – Dexerto
Shroud catches blatant Apex Legends hacker in Ranked Play Respawn Entertainment / Mixer: shroudMichael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek might be one of the most talented first-person shooter players there is – but even he isn’t good enough to counter a blatant hacker in Apex Legends ranked play. Hackers are somewhat of a given in any game, especially when you’re playing in competitive matches against elite-level players. For that reason, questions were immediately raised when shroud and his trio were utterly decimated while running through World’s Edge. While it’s certainly possible for shroud to get outplayed from time to time, you rarely see him be killed in such a way, and before the team had even been completely wiped out they were already crying out “cheater” at their opponent – but had to be sure he was actually cheating. For the next couple of minutes, they decided to spectate the players who had killed them – and knew within seconds that there was definitely something funny going on. In the first clip, which sees the squad being outplayed in all aspects, suspicions were raised and the trio decided to keep watching and see what happens. “Cheater!” one of the team exclaimed, before saying “maybe not” and just that the enemy had “hit all their shots,” which is definitely plausible considering it was a high-level lobby. However, shroud agreed with the initial call, saying without a doubt that “he was cheating.” After deciding to watch them for a while, they quickly noticed some impeccable shots coming from their opposition, and immediately burst out laughing at how obvious it was, with “Optimuslvl” raining damage upon an enemy from a ludicrous distance. Shroud admits that he wasn’t sure at first, assuming that the players were “just insane,” before saying the manner in which they died was “just absurd.” Straight after saying it he spectated Optimus railing an enemy team from miles away and, once again, burst out in laughter and disbelief. Shroud goes on to explain how they were able to spot that someone was hacking so quickly, saying that once you get to a certain level, you are “used to the timings of gunfights and what weapon does what.” “Me and Matt died almost instantaneously,” he continued. “We both died at the same time from a decent bit away, so that’s how you can figure out if someone’s cheating or not.” “If it’s one person that died, maybe he got lucky, but if two people die, you can’t get that lucky… unless you’re on controller,” he finished. He did clarify, though, that even controller doesn’t get aim assist from that distance. While shroud wasn’t sure at first, he quickly realized that he must have been killed by cheaters, obviously a little annoyed at the situation. That said, if you watch out for the signs, you’ll be able to better identify when there really is a cheater in your lobby, making it much easier to pick them out and report them. So, while hackers are always going to be in these games, big streamers calling them out might just make it a little harder for them to do.

Shroud “can’t believe” Apex Legends still hasn’t split controller vs mouse & keyboard players – Dexerto
Shroud “can’t believe” Apex Legends still hasn’t split controller vs mouse & keyboard players Shroud/RespawnStreaming star Mike ‘shroud’ Grzesiek says he “can’t believe” Apex Legends still has competitive lobbies where controller and mouse & keyboard users are mixed, especially as controllers have taken over. Like many of its other FPS rivals, Apex Legends has been caught in the middle of the never-ending debate between controller and mouse and keyboard, with each side complaining about the other. Some MnK users have suggested that controller is akin to a “soft aimbot” in the battle royale, as it has become the dominant peripheral in competitive play. TSM’s ImperialHal recently claimed MVP honors at the ALGS Season 1 playoffs after his switch to ‘roller, becoming the first player to win an event with both inputs. Even with the rise of controller, the two inputs are still being pitted against each other in pro play, which is a surprise for someone like shroud, has constantly chimed in on the aim assist debate across numerous titles. Shroud believes Apex legends should split up controller & KBM in separate events The former Counter-Strike star made his return to Apex during a recent stream and quickly discussed the age-old topic of aim assist after stating that he wishes the battle royale had a little more “finesse” at long-range. “It’s all in the close. In the close range, it’s sick, when you’re bobbing and weaving and shield swapping,” he said. From there, his pals noted that the controller pros have been “owning” in the mid-range fights. “That’s f*cked. I can’t believe they still have competitions in the same… with rollies and mouse and keyboard together. I still can’t believe that. How many more years is it going to take to segregate those two?” he asked. Timestamp of 0:24 The Twitch star added that he thinks it’s “totally fine” to split the two up and have separate tournaments for each input. That’s something that would likely become difficult to accommodate on Respawn’s side of things when it comes to balancing the battle royale, but maybe they’ll throw in a few more aim assist nerfs? Who knows.

Shroud calls for Respawn to fix “insane” Apex Legends muzzle flash issue – Dexerto
Shroud calls for Respawn to fix “insane” Apex Legends muzzle flash issue Respawn Entertainment / Mixer: shroudMichael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek has taken aim at Apex Legends’ “insane” long-term muzzle flash issue, suggesting it’s determining key battles at high ranks, and demanding Respawn patch it out of the game as soon as possible. Muzzle flash has been a hot topic in Respawn’s flagship FPS title since the battle royale first released. While some don’t see a problem with it, many have begged the devs to remove the “ridiculous” feature from the game. As well as players and fans on social media, the muzzle flash issue has also cropped up for a number of high-profile stars, including retired Overwatch pro Brandon ‘Seagull’ Larned, who admitted he was “triggered” by the bright animation. Now, one of the biggest names in the streaming game, shroud — who actually had hands-on testing experience with the title before release, and even made sure Respawn balanced the game’s recoil properly — has had enough. According to the Mixer superstar, who released a YouTube video titled “FIX MUZZLE FLASH” on February 27, the “insane” issue has reached its boiling point, especially when every moment matters in high-ranked Predator matches. “The muzzle flash is bad… that’s all this game is, loot and muzzle flash. It’s insane,” the streamer lashed out, and added there were even certain areas of King’s Canyon and World’s Edge where it got worse. “It’s even more insane inside.” Shroud’s teammate Matthew ‘sQ_WiKeD’ Robertson weighed in with a joke after the Mixer star made his irritated comment, suggesting the human aimbot just can’t “ handle the flash,” before agreeing it was a major and “insane” problem. Not only is it still bad now, in Season 4, shroud added, but it’s been an issue since he first had his sneak-peak look at the title. While he was helping Respawn figure out the game’s balance he apparently pointed it out, but they ignored him. “It’s gotten so out of hand, and it’s crazy to think about how long it’s been an issue in Apex Legends for too… even before day one. It was a concern for everyone in the testing phase,” shroud revealed as he continued to rant about the issue. WiKeD suggested it may be a lighting issue that is plaguing the battle royale’s backend code, resulting in more animation effects than Respawn may want to appear. Shroud agreed, but added that should mean it was fixed by now. “Even if it’s a lighting issue, wouldn’t you think they would fix that on the next map [Season 3’s World’s Edge]? I get that lighting can be an issue, but just recreate the lighting on a new map… maybe they tried, and just failed.” For mobile readers, the related segment begins at 2:10 in the video below. While Respawn didn’t do anything like what shroud suggested and tweak the muzzle flash between maps, it does seem like they have the bright gun barrel issue in their sights at the moment, and maybe working on a tweak. Respawn producer Josh Medina confirmed the muzzle flash effects have been a “deeper issue than expected”, and while the devs have been working on adjusting it, they “want to properly fix instead of half-ass it,” which takes time. Now-retired data miner That1MiningGuy revealed on February 14 that muzzle flash changes had indeed landed in the game’s backend code. There was “nothing too concrete” to actually share though, the code-diving personality said. One tweak he was able to share, however, was the potential of Barrel Stabilizers being added to the game. These gun add-ons would likely decrease the “skill-based” flash the devs seem intent on keeping in the game in at least some form.

Shroud calls for Apex Legends devs to change Evo Shields – Dexerto
Shroud calls for Apex Legends devs to change Evo Shields Mixer: shroud / Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends’ Evo Shields have divided the player base, and while some think they are overpowered, Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek says it’s hard to justify getting them over a regular shield unless they make a few changes. The introduction of Evo Shields into Apex Legends has given the regular body shield some competition. The new shields stack up in power the more damage you do, eventually getting to be more powerful than Gold armor. While it doesn’t have the added benefits of increased healing, the Evo Shield can be good if you adapt your playstyle from rushing in and farming kills, to poking damage away from afar. However, it’s a major adaptation from the style of Apex shroud likes to play. The FPS star loves to run in and style on his opponents, needing the instant impact more than anything else. On top of that, it’s been hard to compare the new shield to the old ones in the Deja Loot LTM. After fiddling around with the new items a bit though, Shroud tweeted out his own recommendations on March 4 that would help the armor become more viable. “Apex Legends suggestion: Evo Shield spawns [with] 50 health. 150 damage [upgrade to] Blue, 250 damage after that [upgrade to] Purple, 400 damage after that [upgrade to] Red,” he said. “If you’re in ring one [upgrade to] Blue, ring two [upgrade to] Purple, ring three [upgrade to] Red.” 2/2 of EVO shields is utterly useless because of the fact of other shields being in the game. randomly thought of this, could be more interesting LTM? — Michael Grzesiek (@shroud) March 4, 2020 Under shroud’s suggestion, the Evo Shield would upgrade after just one kill, if you manage to land all the blows on a target. On top of that, they would also scale into the late game, meaning passive players who lurk around safely will be rewarded for staying alive. “It credits early fight wins, but by the end of the game everyone has the same shield,” the Mixer superstar added. Read more: Where to find Evo Shields in Apex Legends – It would also solve the issue of trying to figure out exactly how much damage you need to do to get the shield. Although the community has devised some rough estimates, shroud’s Evo Shield would look something like this: White: On spawn – Blue: 150 damage dealt, or make it into the first ring. – Purple: 400 damage dealt, or make it into the second ring. – Red: 800 damage dealt, or make it into the third ring. – EVO shields needs a passive or something to be worth it to play with them. Idk, maybe earning a % of shield when you kill someone or deal some damage. Something else. But right now, they are completely useless — Sina (@TehSinapsis) March 4, 2020 However, while shroud has these ideas circulating, he wants to test them in a vacuum — without the regular body armor — just to gauge how effective these new shields are. “This ‘test’ of Evo shields is utterly useless because of the fact of other shields being in the game,” he said, before adding the LTM could have been better. “I randomly thought of this, could be a more interesting limited-time mode?” Read more: How the new Evo Shield works in Apex Legends – Other players have suggested various changes to the Evo Shield, including adding a mechanic that’ll allow players to regenerate the shield without using cells and batteries just by simply killing enemies. Evo Shields are currently only available in the Deja Loot LTM as part of the System Override event. If you want to try them out for yourself, you’ll have two weeks to do so before they disappear, unless Respawn adds them to the game permanently.

Shroud concerned about Apex Legends bunny-hopping being “fixed” – Dexerto
Shroud concerned about Apex Legends bunny-hopping being “fixed” Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek has weighed in on the debate around whether or not “bunny-hopping” should remain in Apex Legends. Bunny-hopping is a technique that’s by no means unique to Apex Legends, cropping up in a variety of games for a variety of purposes. Bunny-hopping describes any technique which is carried out by continuously jumping, launching off immediately upon hitting the ground for a series of “bunny-hops”. In Apex, bunny-hopping is used to move significantly faster while healing. Though you can still move when replenishing your health or shields, typically you’re slowed to a crawl while doing so. By utilizing bunny-hopping, however, it’s possible to keep up your momentum so you barely lose any speed. Unfortunately for fans of the technique, Respawn Entertainment have stated they consider it a bug and as such will be “fixing” it and removing it from the game. Not all players are happy about this news, however, with many arguing that it’s an element that increases the skill ceiling, helping to differentiate between good players, who might simply have good aim, and those who have taken the time to master the game’s intricacies. Among critics of the potential move is Shroud, who is arguably the face of the game as the most popular broadcaster of Apex Legends gameplay on Twitch. Shroud went as far as to say that he doesn’t know if he can play the game if the technique is removed. “It’s such a good fucking feature, I’m praying the devs don’t [remove it],” he said. Shroud isn’t the first notable player to have criticized Respawn’s decision to “fix” bunny-hopping, with former Overwatch pro and current Apex solo kill world record-holder Lucas ‘Mendo’ Håkansson among the most vocal dissenters. For heal bhopping, @Respawn please don’t remove it Implement it to the game and officially support it, and nerf it to a point where you no longer think it’s broken. It’s the best way— nocturnal mendo (@Mendo) March 20, 2019 Respawn haven’t yet actually implemented any changes to the way bunny-hopping works, so it remains possible that they could have a change of heart and decide to leave the technique in as a feature, rather than patching it out as a bug.

Shroud breaks down which Apex Legends weapons are the best and why – Dexerto
Shroud breaks down which Apex Legends weapons are the best and why Seeing as how Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek is one of the best Apex Legends players in the world, it’s probably worth listening when he talks about which kinds of weapons he prefers using. Weapons comprise one of the most important pillars of Apex Legends, and thus it’s important for any player who’s aspiring to master the game to familiarize themselves with the ins and outs of each gun. Shroud, who is universally considered to be among the top Apex players in the world, knows a thing or two about weapons, and has broken down which weapons he prefers and why. According to the former CS:GO pro, the best weapons are the ones that allow the player to most freely move around side-to-side while aiming down sight and shooting. “The best weapons are the weapons that are most mobile,” he said. ” That’s why the Wingman and R-99 are really good.” He then contrasted this idea with the Spitfire, which is considered to be one of the more powerful weapons in the game. Despite its potency, however, it’s lack of mobility means that it just doesn’t meet the cut for shroud. “Spitfire is great, but you go up against anyone that’s half decent, that Spitfire is terrible,” he said. “You literally have to stand still. There’s no side strafes; you can’t side strafe with the Spitfire. You’re a fucking sitting duck, and you just die. It’s just a heavy weapon.” (Conversation is in the first 25 seconds of the video) It’s important to note that since Shroud made these comments, Respawn Entertainment did finally nerf the Wingman in the balancing update they rolled out on March 6. Its rate of fire was reduced from 3.1 to 2.6, while the Skullpiercer headshot damage multiplier was lowered from 2.5 to 2.25. The base hip-fire spread was increased while the rate at which the hip-fire spread shrinks back down has been decreased. Shroud has, of course, shared his thoughts about the changes, and after initially calling them “not the right nerf,” he later changed his mind and appreciated that the effectiveness of the weapon had been noticeably reduced. However, despite the changes, it appears that the Wingman is still one of the more powerful weapons in the game, and its combination with the R-99 might still be the go-to for many of the top players.

Shroud details the biggest problem that is “going to ruin” Apex Legends – Dexerto
Shroud details the biggest problem that is “going to ruin” Apex Legends Respawn Entertainment / shroud TwitchTwitch star Apex Legends, but a burgeoning problem in Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale is making him think the company has long-term problems ahead of them. Apex Legends was a smash hit when it released on February 4, as the game was able to attract 50 million players in no time at all. However, that player base might be at risk of falling out of love with the constant hindrance that cheaters are becoming to the game. During a broadcast on March 20, shroud voiced his concerns about the persistent wave of hackers in Apex, which he thinks could spell doom for the title unless the company makes some changes. Shroud noted that he had talked to Respawn about prioritizing a reliable anti-cheat system to the game. Though the developers have since added a report function to their title, he doesn’t think it’ll be enough to stop the influx of cheaters. “That was my big concern when I talked to [Respawn Entertainment] about this game, ages ago,” shroud said. “I was like, ‘if you don’t handle cheaters well, no report system will save you.’ …A report system is literally useless, [unless] you figure a way to get rid of them. Hopefully that doesn’t happen, but it’s looking like it’s going to happen.” The former CS:GO pro didn’t take Respawn’s predicament lightly, since he knows how cheaters tend to get out of hand – especially with free-to-play titles. But, while the streamer thinks that free-to-play “is the way to go,” a lack of a solution for the hackers could hold a grim future for Apex. “I’m telling you,” shroud said. “The cheaters are going to ruin this game. It’s so hard to fight cheaters, you can’t win.” Shroud was at his wit’s end to preventing cheaters other than Respawn contacting Epic Games for their anti-cheat system. Regardless, something is going to have to happen soon to stave off the growing concern.

Shroud believes Apex Legends is still the best battle royale “hands down” – Dexerto
Shroud believes Apex Legends is still the best battle royale “hands down” shroudDespite the recent surge in popularity for the likes of Warzone 2 and Fortnite, Twitch star shroud believes that Apex Legends is still comfortably the best battle royale on the market. The battle royale genre is one of the most competitive in gaming, with numerous titles fighting to steal the spotlight from one another. Fortnite Chapter 4‘s successful launch brought a new spike in popularity for Epic’s version of the formula, while the long-awaited release of Warzone 2 has received plenty of attention from players and streamers alike. However, despite the strides that rival games have made in recent weeks, Twitch superstar shroud sill feels that Apex Legends is one step ahead of the competition. Shroud claims Apex Legends is still the number one battle royale During his December 20 stream, shroud was once again playing World of Warcraft following the release of the Dragonflight expansion. He then acknowledged how much time he has spent playing WoW in recent weeks, but asked his chat what else there is to play right now. “Would I be playing Valorant? Would I be playing CoD? Would I be playing New World? Like what would I be playing?” he asked. “Overwatch 2 I like actually, but not enough to grind eight hours a day every day.” The chat then suggested that Apex Legends could be the ideal way to mix things up, and while shroud didn’t jump at the chance to hop back in, he did heap some heavy praise on Respawn’s game. “Apex? Apex is still like the best BR, hands down. Hands down still the best BR.” While other battle royales have been enjoying their time in the sun, Apex Legends is in something of a lull right now. The hype that came with Season 15 has died down, and we’re still weeks away from the launch of Season 16. However, it’s a testament to the fun gameplay that Respawn has created over the last few years that shroud still considers Apex to be the top dog, even when its rivals are pulling out all the stops.

Shroud explains why Apex Legends, Warzone need to disable crossplay competitively – Dexerto
Shroud explains why Apex Legends, Warzone need to disable crossplay competitively Respawn / Twitch: ShroudMichael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek believes crossplay should be disabled in competitive Apex Legends and Call of Duty Warzone tournaments to keep things fair across both controller, and mouse and keyboard players. Crossplay has been a net positive for the gaming industry. Not only does it significantly boost populations on servers and lobbies, but it also means you can play with your friends regardless of the platform. However, it has led to a huge debate about balancing input methods. Throughout the years, mouse and keyboard players have always had the edge over controller players due to having more control and precision. But controller aim-assist has been tweaked and refined to the point where it’s arguably better and even considered to be overpowered. It’s become a huge talking point in terms of fairness in competitive Apex Legends and Warzone tournaments. Shroud was asked to share his thoughts on the issue, and he came up with a simple solution. “There’s nothing wrong with controller players. There’s nothing wrong with crossplay,” he said. [The solution] is really simple. When you’re playing competitively, separate them.” He believes it’s not an issue in casual games because “you’re literally playing in a random lobby with a bunch of random people.” However, he does think that when money is on the line, controller players should be separated from mouse and keyboard. “Just separate the two. It’s that easy. It’s not a complicated matter. “Crossplay is amazing. It’s helping gaming get pushed to the next level. Just don’t have it when people are competing for cash money.” Although Apex Legends and Warzone players are all playing the same game, the input methods are different. He believes there are pros and cons to each of them. So, if separating them when money is on the line isn’t going to harm anyone, perhaps it’s an idea worth considering. He urged developers to “pull the trigger” and do it.

Shroud’s Apex Legends ShadowFall “power move” ends in disaster – Dexerto
Shroud’s Apex Legends ShadowFall “power move” ends in disaster Respawn Entertainment / shroud TwitchTwitch star Apex Legends seasonal ShadowFall LTM and quickly discovered the game’s “meta,” which seemed like it would work – until it didn’t. Respawn Entertainment have reigned in the holiday festivities by launching the Fight or Fright event for the battle royale. While the season is bringing a ton new skins for the cast of Legends, the main event lies with the new zombies mode for the game. ShadowFall made a huge splash with players when it was released on October 15, and people have since been finding the best ways for racking up kills to secure a win against the horde of undead. The Shadow army keeps players on their toes, as they try to make their way to the evac ship. But during his stream, shroud really wanted to play as a member of the dark army and thought he had quickly found the “power move” after jumping into his first ShadowFall match. “I want to be a zombie,” shroud said. “Can I just kill myself right away and be a zombie?… I want to see what happens if I just die right away. I’m just saying, this might be the meta.” While the plan was ambitious, it’s easy to see why the streamer would want to be a zombie right off the bat. The undead are significantly faster than their lively counterparts, making the early game quite dangerous for under-looted players. In fact, after respawning as the game’s first zombie, shroud was surprised to see players still making their way down to Kings Canyon. “They’re still landing!” he said. “People are still landing dude. I’m literally dead and they haven’t landed. Bro, this is a power move! Are you kidding me?!” He was really hyped to wreak havoc on the ground floor, and even more so when he locked on to his firsttarget: “What is this dude going to do? Look at this poor guy, he’s not going to stand a chance. What’s up son?!” Then shroud got punched in the face, and died. A major drawback to playing as the undead is that they’re really low on health and easy to kill. So landing in front of someone might not be the “meta” as the former CSGO pro quickly found out.

Shroud explains why Apex Legends is “more balanced” after backpack update – Dexerto
Shroud explains why Apex Legends is “more balanced” after backpack update Respawn Entertainment / Mixer: shroudMichael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek is a big fan of the recent Apex Legends inventory update shipped in the System Override event, stating the new stack sizes are “more balanced” and will be “better” in the long run. Apex Legends’ inventory system got a major update in the System Override event update. Hoarding tons of meds, grenades, and ammo was possible if you had a high-enough level backpack, but now, players have to be more cautious with what they pick up. While there’s more space in the backpack overall — with every level backpack getting an additional two slots — grenades, shields, meds, and ammo take up more space after their stack sizes were reduced. With less utility on the board for players, mindlessly picking up items as you loot is out of the question — you have to be thoughtful about what you put in your backpack and what you leave behind. It’s a bit of a shock to the system for most Apex players, but for shroud, he hasn’t really noticed a major difference. “Honestly, it’s not that different because look at how big my f**king backpack is,” he said in a March 9 video. “Yeah, the trade-off is I can’t hold as many ‘nades — that’s good — I can’t hold as many meds.” “In reality, I’m still holding six batteries, my bullets, a couple of nades — it just feels more balanced this way. This feels balanced — gold inventory, two ‘nades, couple of syringes, a f**k-ton of batteries, and a Phoenix, this is a balanced inventory.” For mobile readers, the related segment starts at 3:56. The streamer believed that before the update players could get away with having too much utility, so the changes were a pleasant surprise. “Before, you just carried too much sh*t. I’m sorry, but I don’t think somebody should have 15 grenades and room for like 12 batteries — that’s too much,” he said. He even went as far to say, in the long run, the inventory update will add more teamplay. As utility gets split between players, teams will have to make sure they can hold enough goods for not just themselves, but their entire squad. “Now there’s trade-offs, like do you want to be somebody that carries a f**kton of meds, or do you want to be somebody that carries a f**kton of ammo, or do you want to be somebody that carries a f**kton of nades? You can give more roles to people and teamplay which is cool. “I think this whole inventory change is for the better, I just don’t think people see that right now.” While shroud hasn’t been the biggest fan of the rest of System Override — he called the Deja Loot LTM “terrible” and is pushing devs to make changes to Evo Shields — the inventory changes are something he believes Respawn have gotten right.

Shroud anticipates meta changes in Apex Legends Season 3 – Dexerto
Shroud anticipates meta changes in Apex Legends Season 3 Twitch: shroud / Respawn EntertainmentTwitch star Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek gave his thoughts on the meta changing in Apex Legends Season 3, fresh off Respawn Entertainment dropping the new launch trailer on September 27. Respawn Entertainment is gearing up for the release of the new season of Apex Legends, as it launches on October 1. The latest phase of the competitive battle royale includes the highly anticipated new legend Crypto, who is sure to shake the game up. During his stream on September 27, human aimbot shroud gave his views on meta changes with Season 3, as well as briefly teasing his opinion on the new character’s skins. Apex Legends season 3 meta changes Shroud streamed his reaction to the latest launch trailer for Season 3, but was pretty tight lipped as he informed his audience that he was technically under NDA, and wouldn’t tell them what he knew. However, when one fan asked him about Crypto changing the meta of the game, he cautioned players from underestimating the impact of a new character based just on their abilities like he did with Wattson. “I don’t know. Even if I did know the abilities I still wouldn’t know. When Wattson came out I didn’t really think Wattson would change the meta. But she kind of did.” he said. The former CSGO pro continued: “Because I was thinking from a non-competitive perspective. Casually I was thinking, yeah she sucks! But from a competitive perspective she’s really good!” With fans eagerly anticipating the latest legend Crypto, one person in his chat commented “All I know is the new character looks badass” which caught the eye of the Twitch star. “Wait until you see his skins!” he exclaimed. Shroud then played coy by telling his audience “But, did I say that? No”, referencing the fact that he’s under NDA from discussing what he knows about the new character. But the tease was enough to send fans into a frenzy. It dawned on shroud how excited he actually is for gaming this Fall, particularly the back-to-back releases of Season 3 on October 1 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on October 25. “Damn so we’re gonna be occupied with Season 3 of Apex, and while we are playing Season 3, we’re waiting and waiting and then boom! Modern Warfare. Hell yeah!” Fans are no doubt just as excited to watch shroud try out the latest legend to join Apex. As of the time of this article, the former CSGO pro has over 6.9 million followers on Twitch.

Shroud amazed by Apex Legends stars Ace and Mohr’s insane clutch – Dexerto
Shroud amazed by Apex Legends stars Ace and Mohr’s insane clutch Respawn Entertainment / shroud TwitchTwitch superstar Apex Legends match as he watched NRG pros Marshall ‘Mohr’ Mohr and Brandon ‘Ace’ Winn go to work in an intense clutch situation. The Apex Legends esports scene has been steadily growing since the battle royale’s February launch, and the pros are already locking in synergies among each other and their characters to gain an edge in the Apex Games. Not a stranger to the heat of competition, shroud was taking a backseat after getting eliminated moments before, but he was still getting hyped to see the NRG teammates navigate their way across a tight endgame scenario. During his broadcast, shroud was spectating Ace and Mohr who were pinned between the circle’s boundaries and the last remaining team who had the high ground. Every time they tried to make a play, they were greeted with a barrage of gunfire from the players situated above – forcing the duo to hatch a scheme. “I’m gonna place [Wraith’s Dimensional Rift],” Ace said. “And you’re going to come out here and you’re going to put [Pathfinder’s Zipline Gun] to the top.” Hiding behind a nearby dumpster, Ace looked on as his teammate took the portal and immediately placed a Zipleline toward the bridge above to reverse the tables by granting them the high ground. After the “huge plays” from the NRG stars, shroud looked on as his team only needed to overcome a 2v3 to get them the win. While that might be a difficult task for most people queuing up, it seemed like a routine exercise for the Twitch Rivals 2019 San Diego Champions. When they took out the isolated Crypto, the two stormed to the lower part of the map where they started from, but this time had blood in their eyes for the two remaining opponents. It seems like winning the high ground was the last piece of the puzzle needed for the NRG duo to make quick work out of the final players. The unfortunate positioning made it a difficult win to pull off, but shroud was definitely impressed at the skills of his Apex Legends teammates.

Should bunny hopping be removed from Apex Legends? Respawn respond – Dexerto
Should bunny hopping be removed from Apex Legends? Respawn respond Apex Legends, the popular battle royale from Respawn Entertainment, uses the Source engine, which means the ‘bunny hopping’ mechanics made famous in Counter-Strike, are possible – but is it a skill or an exploit? Players familiar with the Source engine quickly found that you could bunny hop in Apex Legends by sliding, remaining crouched, and timing your jumps accordingly. If done correctly, the mechanic was very helpful when trying to heal, as players are reduced to a walking pace when using syringes or shield cells. However, by bunny hopping, players could move much faster while healing. It didn’t take long until this sparked debate however. Players who could use the bunny hopping effectively, mostly argued that it was just a matter of skill, and helped increase the skill gap in the game. If you don’t know how to want to try, here’s a simple guide on how to bunny hop in Apex Legends. Others felt that it was an exploit. A faulty mechanic in the game that was unintentional, and was giving some players an unfair advantage. Top Apex Legends streamer and Overwatch pro, Lucas ‘Mendokusaii’ Håkansson is the biggest proponent of bunny hopping, and is adamant Respawn should ‘support’ it, not remove it. However, it looks like the developers at Respawn are not in agreement. Following the Season 1 update, developer u/RespawnSean, stated that the quick weapon switch exploit was ‘not intended’, and said that they feel the same way about bunny hopping, with a fix incoming. Although there is no ETA on a fix, it shouldn’t be too much work to implement, and so bunny hoppers might not have long left to enjoy their tricks on Apex Legends.

Shocking Apex Legends bug is threatening to ruin the game – Dexerto
Shocking Apex Legends bug is threatening to ruin the game As positively as Apex Legends has been received since its release, the game still has several bugs and glitches that are hurting the quality of gameplay. One such bug that has recently been brought to light allows players to use their weapon after being downed, which is clearly going against the way the game is supposed to work. Normally, players who get knocked in Apex Legends can only try and defend themselves with a Knockdown Shield, and in the rare case where they may have a gold version of the item, they can even start reviving themselves. However, one thing they cannot do is use a weapon to shoot back at the enemy players, which is exactly what this bug is allowing downed players to do. Reddit user ‘Arxtix’ has posted a video online showing the full effects of this bug in action, and it definitely does not look good. The clip above clearly shows the player get knocked down and have the option to activate their Knockdown Shield, but instead of just crawling around as a downed player usually would, he instead is able to pull out his Peacekeeper shotgun. What’s perhaps the most shocking thing about this bug is that it even allows downed players to shoot their weapon and inflict damage on his opponents, as demonstrated in the video. Many in the comments section of the Reddit post drew comparisons between the bug and the overpowered Call of Duty perks that would give players the power to shoot back after they were supposed to have been eliminated. Regardless, and it goes without saying, the developers at Respawn Entertainment should place high priority on fixing bugs likes these as they threaten the integrity of the game. Have you come across this bug yet in Apex Legends? If so, were you the downed player or the one that got shot at by a downed player. Let us know by tweeting us @Dexerto and sharing any experiences and/or game clips you may have.

Shocking Apex Legends bug is giving players free wins – Dexerto
Shocking Apex Legends bug is giving players free wins Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have discovered a way where they can be treated to free wins, courtesy of a very strange bug. The new battle royale title – which was released on February 4 – has an ever-growing online community and has already attracted a number of high profile Twitch streamers to start playing the game, such as summit1g, Dr Disrespect, and others. However, while some players are grinding away to achieve their first victory in King’s Canyon, one player has discovered a bug that simply hands you a victory. In a post to the Apex Legends subreddit, Irish_R3bel explained how his brother was declared the champion of a game after being stuck in a glitch. “My brother encountered the bug where he’s stuck on the ship, unable to jump off and it left him 100% immune to the damage and ended up winning the game,” the user posted. “This bug needs to be fixed as soon as possible.” Being stuck in a game might be frustrating for some, but other Reddit users started to imagine what it would be like to come up against somebody affected by the bug. Read More: Everything you need to know about Apex Legends battle royale – full guides for weapons, Legends characters, map, packs, and more – “Just imagine this guy going through so much shit, so many near death experience and all that and it’s the person chance to win for the first time,” one user said. “And then there’s nobody there to kill. I feel bad for that person.” “This actually happened to an enemy player in my game,” another user said. “My team and I were very confused, we were the only ones in the zone which was getting very small and then there was no zone anymore.” Whether or not this bug will be addressed in the near future remains to be seen, but it’s clearly impacting the result of matches right now in Apex Legends – judging by fan comments.

ShivFPS rages for Apex Legends Knockdown Shields to be removed from comp – Dexerto
ShivFPS rages for Apex Legends Knockdown Shields to be removed from comp via iTemp Plays YouTubeThe Apex Legends Global Series showcases the highest level of competitive gameplay from across the major regions, but Luminosity Gaming steamer ‘ShivFPS’ noticed a major flaw in the competition. During the five-rounds split of the European finals, Shiv saw the Gambit Esports squad struggling to finish off the trio from SJP2. With all three opponents equipped with a self-res Legendary Knockdown Shield, it was a tricky situation for the team to maneuver with only four squads left in the match. Sandwiched between a team to the east and another to the north, Gambit’s problems were only intensified after Konstantin ‘Hardecki’ Kozlov pulled off a clutch 1v3 just to be met with three gold Shields. Upon reviewing the match, Shiv saw this as a major hindrance to the competitive side of Apex Legends. The streamer went on an impassioned rant about why Knockdown Shields should be taken out of the competitive side of Apex. “F**k Knockdown Shields, get this sh** out of the game,” Shiv screamed. “They have three fu**ing shields. It’s not f**king good for comp, you dumb f**ks. Get f**king self-res out of f**king competitive Apex Legends!” https://twitter.com/hxrdecki/status/1267340126218264576 As Hardecki was trying to finish off any one of the three downed players, he was getting pushed from team ЧМК. The incoming team saw a great opportunity to poke down Gambit, who were trying to stay alive while finding an angle to eliminate the downed players. The fact that the enemy team was being saved by the Shields made it more and more likely that the Gambit players would end up being pinched by the other remaining squad. Shiv thought this was egregious since neither team ended up finishing on top, especially since the squad spent so much time having to deal with a team that was already downed but not out, thanks to the item’s self-revive ability. Knockdown Shields can be a fun and dynamic part for players in Apex Legends, but Shiv clearly finds a flaw when using the item in a competitive setting, especially because of its self-res property. Respawn and the community agree that the item needs to be looked at and players could be seeing a change coming to Knockdown Shields soon.

Shaders bug in Apex Legends turns entire game bright blue – Dexerto
Shaders bug in Apex Legends turns entire game bright blue Respawn EntertainmentA strange bug in Apex Legends apparently caused by faulty shaders installation has reared its head, makes the entire game look underwater. Apex is never short of bizarre bugs – On August 29, we reported on a bug that bothered players where strange, loud music played over the typical in-game sounds. These bugs pop up occasionally and are typical for any game of Apex’s size that receives consistent updates. This newest one, however, is particularly strange and involves an issue with updating shaders. Apex’s Blue screen shader bug The issue was reported by Reddit user BigHusky89, and it’s one of the more visually jarring bugs we’ve seen from Apex. The post is titled “Had to download shaders and this happened”, suggesting there was an issue during the shader installation. Read More: Rarest Apex Legends skins – The video shows their game has been entirely turned blue, with a fluorescent glow. The game is still fully functional, just now they’re playing an underwater version of the game. Although this glitch obviously hinders your ability to play the game, the blue effect on everything also looks pretty cool. It’s not entirely clear what went wrong with the shaders when BigHusky downloaded them, but whatever happened cranked up the blue. There were a ton of jokes about the blue screen in the comments following the post. One player joked, “free thermal vision”, seeing the blue screen as a blessing in disguise. Hopefully, for BigHusky they uninstalled all of the game’s shaders and reinstalled them so they can get back to their regularly scheduled Apex matches.

Set a hilariously lethal trap in Apex Legends with this Wraith tactic – Dexerto
Set a hilariously lethal trap in Apex Legends with this Wraith tactic Apex Legends players have discovered a hilarious method of eliminating enemies using Wraith’s Dimensional Rift. Though Wraith’s ultimate ability is designed for utility, it turns out it can be quite lethal under the right circumstances. In order to turn the portal into a deadly trap, the exit needs to be placed in an open doorway. Once friendly players are safely through, the door should be closed. At this point, any more players who travel through the Dimensional Rift will be deposited in a gap that’s far too small for them and be instantly crushed to death. PSA: If you put one of Wraith’s portals inside a door and close it, it will insta kill a player going through it #ApexLegends (@apex_intel @PlayApex) pic.twitter.com/Ac5uLznQ4L — Turretguy (@Iturretguy36) February 13, 2019 Obviously, this tactic requires the enemy to opt-in by travelling through the portal, but if you’re already being chased it could make for a powerful means of turning the tables on them. If you are going to use this tactic, however, be sure to let your team-mates know not to take the portal after the door’s closed. It’s not entirely clear yet whether this is a bug or an intended feature. Apex Legends doesn’t feature fall damage, but this isn’t the only instance of an environmental instant-kill. Players who get caught between a wall and an opening chest, for instance, will also be immediately killed. It seems that in the event of a player being caught in a space that’s too small to hold them, they will suffer an immediate death. Whether or not Respawn change this in the future, for now it’s worth staying beside chests when opening them, and keeping in mind that you can trap unsuspecting enemies with Wrath portals.

Serious Apex Legends issue makes Devotion useless for headshots – Dexerto
Serious Apex Legends issue makes Devotion useless for headshots Respawn/EAApex Legends fans believe that they might have stumbled onto a major issue with the Devotion that is purposefully stopping the LMG from hitting headshots at long range. With the start of Apex Legends Season 6, Respawn shook up the battle royale’s loot and weapon pool once again with the addition of the Volt SMG as well as a changing of the weapons that are only found in care packages. As a few weapons have started to stand out above the rest, notably the Flatline, players have started to change up their arsenals and start using different weapons throughout matches. However, when it comes to the Devotion – one of Apex’s best LMGs – it appears as if Respawn might have a problem on their hands as players believe that is being restricted from hitting headshots at long range. The problem was pointed out by Reddit user JustAnAverageGuy20, who showcased a clip of themself using the Devo inside of the game’s training mode. While standing on the hill to the left of the training mode’s spawn area, the Redditor aimed down sights for a headshot and shot right the training dummy that was furthest away from them. When the shot hit, it only registered as a body shot. This happened again when they repeated the process. Dexerto also tested this out with a few shots of the Devo and ended up the same result – just 16 damage to the body over and over again. Though, as you can see in the below clip, headshots do register by taking a few steps further forward than where we stood at first. Given that one of the big bonuses of the Devotion is its headshot multiplier at short range, it’s pretty unusual that the weapon appears to be having issues with hitting headshots. Whether it’s an intended secret nerf – given that there was no mention of it in the recent patch notes – or a bug, we’ll just have to wait and see if Respawn chimes in on it one way or another.

Sentinels confirm return to Apex Legends with top ALGS team – Dexerto
Sentinels confirm return to Apex Legends with top ALGS team SentinelsSentinels have confirmed their return to competitive Apex Legends with the roster that previously played under The Guard’s banner. Sentinels dropped their Apex Legends roster after ALGS Split 1 due to poor performance and were reportedly returning to the esport for Split 2 with Spacestation Gaming’s roster, consisting of Joseph ‘Frexs’ Sanchez, Angello ‘Xenial’ Cadenas, and Mark ‘Dropped’ Thees. However, the move appeared to be dead in the water after the trio competed at the ALGS Split 1 Finals under Spacestation. And just a day before the start of Split 2, Xenial signed with Oxygen Esports. Just a day after the official website of ALGS Split 2 Pro League showed The Guard’s team under Sentinels’ banner, the North American organization confirmed the news. Sentinels return to Apex Legends with The Guard lineup The new Sentinels lineup will consist of Keon ‘Keon’ Berghout, Beau ‘RamBeau’ Sheidy, and Cole ‘Rkn’ Prommel. After the news of The Guard’s layoffs hit the public, RamBeau spoke about his team’s situation in a live stream and revealed that the team was open to talking to other esports organizations. The squad qualified for the ALGS Split 1 Playoffs thanks to a third-place regular season performance, and finished the tournament in London in 17th place. The now former The Guard trio will make their first appearance for Sentinels on March 11 in the ALGS Split 2 Pro League NA. The team has been seeded into Group A, alongside the likes of TSM, FaZe Clan, and Complexity. Sentinels’ Apex Legends roster: Keon ‘Keon’ Berghout – Beau ‘RamBeau’ Sheidy – Cole ‘Rkn’ Prommel –

Sentinels’ RamBeau announces retirement from competitive Apex Legends – Dexerto
Sentinels’ RamBeau announces retirement from competitive Apex Legends Joe Brady / ALGSSentinels’ player Beau ‘RamBeau’ Sheidy has announced his retirement from Apex Legends after three years of professional play for multiple different esports organizations. RamBeau announced on Twitter on March 28 that he is retiring from competitive Apex Legends. The North American player cited a loss of love for the competitive side of the game as the reason for him leaving the esport. “Got to always do what makes you happy in life, and I’m currently not happy. There have been some unfortunate family matters the last half year and it’s time I help the fam a little more and there are other opportunities I want to pursue in life so I’ll be retiring from comp apex,” RamBeau said. He said he plans to continue streaming and playing the game, but not much outside of that. RamBeau started competing in Apex Legends in 2020 and has made the ALGS Championship twice, first in 2021 on the free-agent team My Little Phony and then as a substitute for GMT esports where he finished fifth. RamBeau to leave competitive Apex Legends The North American player has competed for five different organizations since starting his career, representing Flash Point, XSET, Torrent, The Guard and Sentinels. He joined Sentinels on March 10, after The Guard laid off most of its staff and allowed the Apex Legends team to explore other opportunities. Under The Guard, RamBeau qualified for the ALGS: 2023 Split 1 Playoffs and placed in the top 20. The fan-favorite player leaves Sentinels down a player with one more round of pro league competition left in the split. The team currently sits in 17th place on the league leaderboard. The team has yet to announce a replacement for RamBeau and have until their next match, on April 16, to find a replacement.

Sentinels player defends himself amid ImperialHal criticisms: “Get off my d***” – Dexerto
Sentinels player defends himself amid ImperialHal criticisms: “Get off my d***” Joe Brady/ ALGSPhillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen called out Sentinels player Cole ‘Rkn’ Prommel in a recent livestream over his 2023 ALGS Championship performance and now he has hit back on social media. ImperialHal called out Sentinels for potentially wasting the talent of their recent acquisition, young up-and-coming player Israel ‘Koyful’ Lawrence, in a recent livestream. The TSM IGL said that it is sad to see such a talent paired up with players on Sentinels who seemingly don’t put as much time into the game as they should. The 2023 ALSG Championship winner specifically called out Rkn’s performance at the World Championship Bracket Stage in which the Sentinels player only managed one kill in their elimination round. ImperialHal also went on a slight rant on the same livestream about how some people who are in charge of teams never get benched, or kicked from their squad, due to underperforming at events. This seemed like a shot at Rkn, who has been the architect of The Guard and Sentinels’ rosters. The TSM player defended his statements the next day on social media, saying that he can say whatever he wants on his channels. Now, Rkn has hit back at ImperialHal on social media with a statement of his own. Sentinels IGL Rkn goes off on ImperialHal The former The Guard player laid out his career since he started playing Apex Legends competitively to explain that he hasn’t had a “free ride” at any point so far. “I’ve barely made any money from orgs prior to SEN and I made 6 figures in investments when I went full-time in Apex because I loved the game. I’ve also always done EVERYTHING for my teams,” Rkn said. Rkn also pointed out how on every roster he’s played on, he’s always been considered as the player that’s “holding back” his teammates from performing better by the community. “It won’t ever matter who it is. It’ll always be the same shit. Get off my d***,” Rkn said. The Sentinels player also said that there seems to be a double standard for whom ImperialHal calls out as he doesn’t seem to take shots at people whom he considers his friend, like Complexity player Bowen ‘Monsoon’ Fuller. The two will have to wait until 2024 to settle their issues in the server as the North American Pro League doesn’t kick off until the weekend of January 20.

Sentinels drops Apex Legends team after “poor perfomances” in Split 1 – Dexerto
Sentinels drops Apex Legends team after “poor perfomances” in Split 1 SentinelsSentinels has released its Apex Legends roster, with player and coach Will ‘TeQ’ Starck explaining the decision was due to the team’s poor performances in Split 1 of the 2023 ALGS season. The news broke when Canadian Nicholas ‘Crust’ Kell announced he was looking for a new team for Split 2 but gave few details of what was going on with Sentinels’ squad. This was soon followed by a similarly brief post from Adam ‘senoxe’ Lau, who added, “Nothing but love for Sentinels, [they] treated me great for a little over 3 years.” As fans speculated what had caused the sudden split in the roster, TeQ provided more clarity in his own TwitLonger. “The org has decided to let the team go & start fresh,” he wrote. “There were a ton of really unfortunate circumstances during Split 1 that were simply out of our control & ultimately lead to our poor performance as a team. “There were flashes of brilliance throughout my time at SEN but it simply wasn’t enough. Despite these things, I take full responsibility for the performance of the team, and no blame should be put on Senoxe or Crust.” On Reddit, TeQ also clarified that only he and Senoxe were technically dropped from the roster, with Crust making the decision to leave. Sentinels struggled to make any headway into the upper tiers of NA teams in Split 1, finishing 23rd out of 30 teams. This left them in the relegation zone and needing to play through qualifiers to reach Split 2. With this uphill challenge now facing the Sentinels organization, they may choose to sign an already qualified roster, should one be available, if they opt to remain active in Apex Legends. In recent months, a handful of the biggest orgs have exited Apex Legends entirely, including Cloud9, Team Liquid, and G2 Esports.

Sentinels drop Apex Legends player ahead of ALGS NA LCQ – Dexerto
Sentinels drop Apex Legends player ahead of ALGS NA LCQ SentinelsSentinels Apex Legends IGL Cole ‘Rkn’ Prommel announced that the team has released Keon ‘Keon’ Berghout ahead of the North American ALGS LCQ. Sentinels will be looking for a new third player for its Apex Legends roster as the team’s IGL announced the release of Keon on June 9. In the announcement, Rkn said that Sentinels have been “barred from scrims” for the past two weeks because the squad is not considered an LCQ team until after the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs conclude. This, according to Rkn, has forced the team’s hand to make a roster move as they could not iron out their issues through in-game practice. Rkn explained that he and Keon have differing views on how Apex Legends should be played and that this led to adaptations to create a better team environment, but ultimately, a roster change was needed. The Sentinels IGL said there is no “ill will” towards Keon, and that the timing of the move was for the benefit of the player so he was not without a team at the last second before the competition started. The Last Chance Qualifier for the 2023 ALGS Championship is set to begin on July 21 for the North American region. Sentinels Apex Legends roster shuffles ahead of ALGS LCQ Rkn and Keon joined Sentinels on March 10, 2023, and have not been able to recreate the success they found as a part of The Guard. Under The Guard, Rkn, Keon and Beau ‘RamBeau’ Sheidy were one of the best North American Apex Legends squads, as they placed third overall in the first split of the North American ALGS in 2022 and qualified for Split 1 Playoffs. At the international tournament, the squad placed in the top 20. After signing with Sentinels, and losing RamBeau to a short-lived retirement not even a month later, the team’s form dipped as they placed 15th in the second split and missed out on ALGS Split 2 Playoffs. Keon is now a free agent and is open to other offers from ALGS teams, and Sentinels is now looking for a third player for the LCQ to play alongside Rkn and Angello ‘Xenial’ Cadenas. The Sentinels roster is now as follows: Rkn – Xenial – Nelson ‘Nelsinho’ (coach) –

Sentinels drop Apex Legends player after roster drama – Dexerto
Sentinels drop Apex Legends player after roster drama Joe Brady/ ALGSSentinels have dropped their Apex Legends IGL Cole ‘Rkn’ Prommel following a spat online about his place on the roster with TSM’s Philip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen. Rkn announced late on October 24 that he has parted ways with Sentinels and is looking for a new team, or for two other players, to compete in the preseason North American Pro League qualifiers. The move comes over a week after the former Sentinels IGL was heavily criticized by TSM captain ImperialHal over his performance at the 2023 ALGS Championship. Hal also called into question his spot on the Sentinels roster, saying that some people who are captains or IGLs for teams don’t bench themselves after poor performances. Rkn hit back on social media at the TSM star for his criticisms, saying he hasn’t had a free ride on any team since he started competing. Almost two weeks after the exchange, Rkn is out at Sentinels and is looking to return to ALGS on a different roster. “I can lead a team to LAN next split. Four years I’ve never had a long-term roster and still made almost every Finals. I will give you the best version of myself to date. The players I respect, respect me for what I’m capable of. That’s all that matters to me,” Rkn said on social media. Sentinels make major change to Apex Legends roster Rkn joined Sentinels after The Guard allowed its Apex team to explore other options following the org’s downsizing. Sentinels had just dropped its previous roster and picked up the team after its top 20 showing at the ALGS Split 1 Playoffs. The squad slowly changed over the course of 2023 as Beau ‘RamBeau’ Sheidy retired for a short time and Keon ‘Keon’ Berghout parted ways with the team. Despite the roster overhaul, Rkn and the squad managed to qualify for the ALGS Championship and placed in the top 30. The Apex Legends esports off-season is ongoing as squads shuffle around players before the league starts back up in January 2024. The Sentinels lineup is now the following: Angello ‘Xenial’ Cadenas – Israel ‘Koyful’ Lawrence –

Sentinels bring in new player to Apex Legends squad for ALGS NA LCQ – Dexerto
Sentinels bring in new player to Apex Legends squad for ALGS NA LCQ Sentinels TwitterSentinels revealed their third player for ALGS NA LCQ a week after dropping Keon ‘Keon’ Berghout. Sentinels announced they were revamping their roster ahead of the North American ALGS LCQ last week after they dropped Keon. The player joined Sentinels from The Guard along with Cole ‘Rkn’ Prommel and Beau ‘RamBeau’ Sheidy. Four months later, the only man left standing from that initial roster is Rkn. Sentinels have not had a good season so far in ALGS competition. The team has not made an international tournament in Year 3 competition and dropped its roster in January after placing outside the top 20 in the first NA ALGS split. After signing its new roster in March, the organization has only marginally improved by placing 15th in the second split, just four spots away from qualifying for Split 2 Playoffs. Sentinels Apex Legends reportedly signing SSG roster ahead of ALGS Split 1 Playoffs – Dexerto
Sentinels Apex Legends reportedly signing SSG roster ahead of ALGS Split 1 Playoffs EASentinels are set to sign the Spacestation Gaming roster for their Apex Legends division after releasing their previous squad in January, according to a report. On January 24, all three players from Sentinels Apex announced they were looking for a new team for Split 2 of the ALGS 2023 season. Player and coach Will ‘TeQ’ Starck confirmed that Sentinels were looking to start fresh after the team’s failure to qualify for Split 2. According to esports.gg, that fresh start will take the shape of the SSG roster, which currently consists of Joseph ‘Frexs’ Sanchez, Angello ‘Xenial’ Cadenas, and Mark ‘Dropped’ Thees. One of the longest-standing trios is Apex, they have represented SSG since the Summer of 2021, and finished 6th overall at the 2022 ALGS Championship. Their 9th-place finish in the 2023 Split 1 Pro League secured them a spot in the ALGS playoffs, the $1 million prize pool event in London starting February 2. If the move goes through, they should be representing Sentinels at the event. However, according to esports.gg, Dropped will only remain on the roster for the LAN event, before moving on to join OpTic Gaming. Sources also indicate that this will signal the end of Spacestation Gaming’s involvement in Apex Legends. If so, they would join the growing list of teams with NA rosters leaving Apex: G2, Cloud9 and Liquid.

Seer tops the charts in Apex Legends Season 10 pick rates – Dexerto
Seer tops the charts in Apex Legends Season 10 pick rates Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Season 10 is just a week in but with it brought the 18th Legend, Seer. The pick rate of these characters is constantly moving around, especially with new ones added. To no surprise, the new Ambush Artist tops the charts. These numbers are based on around 6 million players which is definitely a smaller fraction of the actual player base. These can help show what fans are defining as the “meta” and what has changed from season to season. This is only a small percentage of the actual player base because Respawn does not fully release this data to the public, these numbers come from ApexLegendsStatus. Players who connect their Apex account with this website allow it to pull out information such as which character they are selecting. As of now, there are over 6 million people registered. Here’s the breakdown so far in Season 10. Apex Legends Season 10 pick rates Seer: 18.1% – Octane: 14.1% – Wraith: 9.8% – Bloodhound: 7.4% – Lifeline: 7.1% – Pathfinder: 6.6% – Bangalore: 4.8% – Valkyrie: 4.6% – Horizon: 4.6% – Loba: 3.7% – Caustic: 3.4% – Fuse: 3.2% – Revenant: 2.9% – Mirage: 2.7% – Gibraltar: 2.6% – Rampart: 1.6% – Wattson: 1.5% – Crypto: 1.2% – As much of the community expected, Seer reigned as the go-to Legend at the release of Season 10. This character is considered “broken” and devs have already confirmed a nerf for him in the next patch. Octane and Wraith round out the top three, each moving down one slot from Season 9. These two have seen a lot of action as they allow for an aggressive style and have good escape mechanics that make them useful to a squad. You can see the change from the previous season in this chart and how the meta is slowly adapting to Seer. Lifeline is one that was able to jump up the charts and overtake Pathfinder. Lifeline provides a much more supportive style, good for players that aren’t interested in rushing into a fight every 10 seconds. Also Rampart, Wattson, and Crypto continue to remain in the bottom tier so maybe there will be some changes in the future to help increase the pick rate of these Legends. We’ll continue to update this as Season 10 develops and new patches come out.

Seer sees Apex Legends pick rate collapse after major nerfs – Dexerto
Seer sees Apex Legends pick rate collapse after major nerfs Respawn EntertainmentPick rates for Apex Legends Season 10 addition Seer have quite literally fallen off a cliff – thanks to the hefty nerf Respawn handed the Ambush Artist. Despite only being added at the beginning of Season 10 – which started on August 3 – Seer quickly came to dominate the Apex Legends landscape. A combination of recon and wall hacks, his ability to pinpoint enemies via scanner of heartbeat meant he was far and away the strongest legend in the game. However, in response to the legend’s incredible power, Respawn quickly devised a nerf that would balance him out. The changes, which finally dropped on August 23, saw all his abilities nerfed. Arguably the biggest nerf came to his tactical, which was made slower and had its notorious flash and damage removed. If the aim was to reduce Seer’s pick rate, it’s fair to say it has been a resounding success. Recent pick rate stats show that Octane has risen to the top of the most popular legends list, while Seer has fallen all the way to fourth. However, Seer’s pick rate has gone from just over half (54.6% to be exact) all the way down to around 8% according to ApexLegendsStatus. The changes see him fall below Octane, Wraith, and Bloodhound in the most picked legends. He could yet fall further as players move away from the weakened Ambush Artist. Seer is by be no means under-powered now, but the heavy nerfs have more than done their job. How far he will fall remains to be seen, but he’s still a long away ahead of some of the most neglected legends like Rampart and Crypto. It’s also worth bearing in mind that pick rate is not the be-all and end-all when it comes to buffs and nerfs. K/D, win rate and more have an impact on Respawn’s decisions, so we’ll have to wait and see how the Season 10 meta develops, and what it means for our newest character.

Seer pick rate plummets after Apex Legends Season 16 update – Dexerto
Seer pick rate plummets after Apex Legends Season 16 update Respawn EntertainmentSeer’s pick rate has plummeted in Apex Legends after his Passive, Tactical, and Ultimate were hit with heavy nerfs in the Season 16 update. In the last few seasons in Apex Legends, characters with scan abilities have dominated the meta, as being able to reveal the exact location of an enemy is immensely valuable. The strongest of these legends was certainly Seer, who had access to a heartbeat sensor, a scan, and a huge Ultimate that also reveals the position of enemies in the radius. To reduce his power and hopefully balance the Ambush Master, Respawn increased the cooldown on his Ultimate, reduced its duration, slowed down the initiation of the heartbeat sensor, and even made the Passive louder so enemies can track Seer’s position using the audio cues. Well, these changes have had a massive impact on Seer’s pick rate, causing them to plummet in Revelry. Seer’s popularity drops significantly after Season 16 nerfs According to Apex Legends Status, Seer’s pick rate went from 4.3% at the end of Season 15, to 2.1% after the Season 16 update. That’s a total decrease of over 45% and based on his trajectory over the last few days, his popularity is going to continue going down. This means the Ambush master is only slightly above Catalyst who is sitting at 1.7% and Gibraltar at 1.6%. It’ll be interesting to see how far Seer’s pick rate goes down, or whether players are only avoiding him temporarily because of the recent nerfs. Interestingly, this isn’t the lowest Seer’s pick rate has been in the time since his release. In Season 12, he reached his lowest point ever at 1.7%, before making a dramatic resurgence in popularity throughout Season 13. With pros like ImperialHal saying that Seer still has a place in the meta and can be OP in the right hands, we’ll have to see whether the Ambush Master can recover and get a foothold back in the meta.

Respawn confirm Seer nerfs after new Apex legend dominates Season 10 meta – Dexerto
Respawn confirm Seer nerfs after new Apex legend dominates Season 10 meta Respawn EntertainmentSeer has taken Apex Legends Season 10 by storm. The newest Legend to drop into the Apex Games is maybe a bit too strong though, having dominated the meta since his launch. Respawn are going to tone that back with some urgent nerfs. Seer didn’t take long to turn the Apex Legends meta on its head. The newly-released Recon Legend has basically overtaken the game — and not just because he’s the new guy. His best-in-class intel gathering has rocketed him up the tier list in the eyes of pros and casuals alike. Why would you play Bloodhound or Crypto when Seer exists? That’s been the overarching question over Season 10’s launch, and it’s one Respawn is ready to answer. Travis Nordin, the designer behind Seer, admitted the Legend has launched with more power than intended in Apex Legends. So, they’re giving him a tune-up in an “upcoming patch” in potentially days, not weeks until the mid-season update. “Seer has launched strong, which was the hope. He’s also brought a lot of new gameplay elements to the game (HP bars, interrupt), which has driven a lot of discussion with players, which is great to see,” Nordin said during an August 6 Reddit AMA. “With that being said [he] is probably a bit too strong at the moment and will receive some balance updates in an upcoming patch.” While Respawn intended for Seer to be good, they didn’t want him to be broken. They wanted him to be a long-term pick, not just one “where they were picked a lot in the first week and then they fall into obscurity.” Seer is “probably a bit strong at the moment and will [be] receiving some balance updates in an upcoming patch.” – Seer’s gameplay engineer. pic.twitter.com/ypNVX3o1Z1 — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) August 6, 2021 Players shouldn’t expect “fundamental changes” to Seer’s kit. However, unnecessary power like the flashbang on his tactical will be removed. “I will say that the flash on hit ended up being way more than intended and we will be removing that aspect entirely from the ability,” Nordin said. Respawn are also planning on adjusting the readability of Seer’s kit so you can clearly distinguish your ally’s abilities from the 19 other Seers on the map. “We were aiming to differentiate the enemy/allied Seer abilities with the addition of the red tinting applied to the VFX. I know readability has come up a few times with the VFX for Seer, and we’re going to be taking a look at them to see what can be done to help with that,” he added. We will keep you updated with the full list of Seer changes when they are pushed live in Apex Legends Season 10.

Apex Legends update 1.78 nerfs Seer’s abilities: full patch notes – Dexerto
Apex Legends update 1.78 nerfs Seer’s abilities: full patch notes Respawn EntertainmentSeer has been a massive talking point since Apex Legends Season 10 started up and players were delighted to hear a nerf for the overpowered Legend was on the way. Now the update is live in-game. Since the release on August 3, the 18th legend has wreaked havoc across the community. Respawn’s vision for Seer was a long-term legend pick and not just another legend that falls out of the meta in a few weeks, and while they’ve probably accomplished that, they certainly overturned him. Thankfully, the nerf is now in for the Season 10 character, to bring him back in line. Apex Legends Seer nerf On August 23, Respawn rolled out the balance patch to hit Seer, with changes made to all three of his abilities. The big changes are that his tactical no longer deals damage and the flash effect is removed. 🚨 New Apex Legends update live now on all platforms. Includes Seer nerf! Full patch notes coming, but tactical no longer deals 10 damage and flash is removed. pic.twitter.com/0OUz1YMANB — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) August 23, 2021 The patch also includes some miscellaneous changes to Seer, and some general bug fixes as well. Apex Legends 1.78 patch notes Seer changes Passive Increased wait time between sensor spikes for full HP targets 1.25s to 1.75s) – Removed center circle ellipses – Reduced range beyond 75m (blue spikes) – Reduced field of view – Tactical Increased detonation delay from 1.4s to 1.6s – Players hit are no longer damaged or flashed. Screen shake from being hit is also reduced – Move slow added while holding tactical – Lowered volume on audio – Fixed tactical FX being visible in firing range when it’s not supposed to be – Ultimate Increase cooldown from 90s to 120s – Lowered volume on audio – Miscellaneous Fixed sever errors related with Seer – Adjusted volume of voice lines that play when Seer is chosen – Other Fixes Fixed a problem caused by Climatizer FX (“No existing effect for handle” error) – Fixed an issue with challenges (“Array index -1 is out of range”) – Fixed most instances of Legends “holding a grenade” when they have none in their inventory (Wattson still suffers from this in some rare cases) – Fixed an error with using multiple grenades on explosive holds (a following update later today will cause explosive holds to spawn closed again) – Switch: Fixed holospray display – Fans divided Although Seer was undoubtedly powerful, it remains to be seen if these balance changes will be enough to stop the debate. The community is left clashing against each other with what they think needs changing, even Apex Legends pro ImperialHal said: “I feel like people are completely not understanding what needs to be nerfed on Seer. People are saying you only need to nerf the damage — I think I also said it, and I’m 100% wrong.” While some are hopeful that Respawn will do a good job in nerfing Seer, there are of course concerns that Seer will never be balanced.

Seer was reportedly “mega buffed” just before Apex Legends Season 10 release – Dexerto
Seer was reportedly “mega buffed” just before Apex Legends Season 10 release Respawn EntertainmentSeer is arguably the most broken release in Apex Legends history. The Season 10 character has infuriated players with his vast amounts of utility. But apparently, it didn’t have to be this way, with him being “mega buffed” just before his release. Seer is the character everyone loves to hate in Apex Legends. Since his launch in Season 10, there’s been a barrage of complaints about how strong his recon abilities are. Permanent wallhacks? Check. A tactical that blinds, damages, stops revives and heals, and even shows you the enemy’s health bar? Check. A stationary Bloodhound scan that lasts forever on his ultimate? Check. Those are only some of the things players have been annoyed about. However, it apparently didn’t have to be this way. Apex Legends pro for SCARZ Mikkel ‘Mande’ Hestbek said as much in a recent Twitch stream. He asked TSM pro Jordan ‘Reps’ Wolfe if he playtested Seer, and while he said no, Mande claimed Seer was “omega buffed” just before his release. “I was just wondering if Seer was that f**king broken in playtests too,” Mande said. “What I’ve heard from other people that playtested that apparently do all that shit at all. He was completely fine in the playtests, like a good character. [Respawn] apparently omega buffed him before they released him.” The news came as a shock to both Reps and Mande’s teammate Can ‘Taisheen’ Öztürk, who was also in the lobby. Mande himself didn’t playtest Seer, so he doesn’t have first hand experience. He didn’t go in-depth about what Seer was like in the playtests. However, he was adamant that what he heard was true. Apex Legends players are still hanging out for a nerf to the newly-released recon character, but it has been delayed by a week until later in August. Exact details on how Respawn are toning back the Legend remains to be seen, but any nerf will be rejoiced.

Seer hit with massive nerfs in Apex legends Dressed to Kill event – Dexerto
Seer hit with massive nerfs in Apex legends Dressed to Kill event Respawn EntertainmentSeer doesn’t come anywhere close to topping the Apex Legends pick rate list, but that didn’t stop Respawn from dishing out a string of punishing nerfs in the Dressed to Kill event. Dressed to Kill, the first Apex Legends Season 17 event, reintroduces the Armed & Dangerous LTM and adds 24 collection cosmetics. The two-week event also adds a Horizon heirloom and makes balancing changes. Every Legend went unscathed in the initial Season 17 update, as Catalyst, Mirage, and Ash all received slight buffs. A few class reworks highlighted a rather uneventful balancing list, with no Legend coming out worse for wear. The same can’t be said about the Dressed to Kill update, as Seer found himself on the wrong end of noteworthy downgrades. All three Seer abilities nerfed in Dressed to Kill event The Season 17 Apex Legends pick rate list shows that Seer boasts a measly pick rate of 2.2%. This ranks 17th among 24 Legends. Seer doesn’t jump off the page as a must-use hero, but a nerf to every ability means we probably won’t see him jump up that list any time soon. Seer users truly shine when they are able to reveal enemies to their teammates. That skill suffers a major blow in the latest update. Heart Seeker allows the Legend to Hear and visualize the heartbeats of nearby enemies when aiming down sights. The Passive ability saw a 15-meter decrease in range from 75 to 60. Focus of Attention is a blast that impairs and reveals the location of enemies through walls. This ability also saw its range decrease from 75 to 60 meters, and scan time reduced to 2.5 second instead of eight. As for Seer’s Ultimate ability, the Legend can only throw it 15 meters instead of 50, and its effectiveness of revealing enemies was reduced. Seer saw his biggest strength downgraded, and on top of that, Respawn also removed the Legend’s heal and revive cancel. For a full breakdown of the Seer nerfs, make sure to check out the Dressed to Kill patch notes.

Seer Heirloom revealed for Apex Legends Season 15 in Spellbound Collection Event – Dexerto
Seer Heirloom revealed for Apex Legends Season 15 in Spellbound Collection Event Respawn EntertainmentThe second collection event of Season 15 is coming on January 10, with the Spellbound event, and it finally brings Seer’s heirloom to Apex Legends. Seer has been a controversial Legend since he was released in August of 2021. He was incredibly strong on release, and has received a hefty list of nerfs since his arrival. However, that hasn’t kept players from locking in Seer. His pick rate was 4% at the end of Season 14, which is nothing to scoff at in comparison to a legend like Crypto who had a 1.3% pick rate. And those who still play Seer have something in store for them in Season 15: an heirloom. A new heirloom was speculated upon due to some datamining before the new season kicked off. And now, Respawn has unveiled his exclusive melee weapon officially. Seer heirloom in Apex Legends Apex Legends’ developers have been gradually working their way through the full Legend list and giving everyone an heirloom. However, they haven’t been going in the exact order of release date. Valkyrie’s heirloom came in Season 13, while Loba’s came out in Season 14, for instance. Heirlooms aren’t being released in order of Legend release date, so it’s always a surprise when the character who’s receiving an heirloom gets announced. Although Horizon would technically be next in line, Seer has skipped the queue, with his ‘Showstoppers’ Heirloom. As indicated by early leaks, Seer’s heirloom is indeed a sickle. Although it doesn’t have the silhouette a traditional sickle would have, it still has a long, curved blade with a short handle. Not only that – Seer is in fact dual wielding this weapon, just like Pathfinder’s boxing gloves or Lifeline’s drumsticks. The official reveal also showed some of the unique animations that Seer will flex in-game. You can check out more information on the Spellbound collection event here, which also brings back fan-favorite Control mode.

Secret Wattson buff makes her Ultimate portable in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Secret Wattson buff makes her Ultimate portable in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentA secret buff to Wattson’s Ultimate was added in the Season 14 update and it’s made her Interception Pylon significantly more powerful. Despite being one of the most iconic Legends on the Apex roster, Wattson has never managed to gain a foothold in the meta or become a popular pick in-game. While she did receive a set of useful buffs back in Season 11, the Static Defender maintains a relatively low pick rate of just 2% in Season 14. As a result, a lot of the community believes Wattson is still in need of some changes to help her compete in the Outlands. Well, although it wasn’t mentioned in the patch notes, Wattson did receive a buff to her Ultimate that’s made it portable and immensely strong while rotating. Wattson Ultimate buff is perfect for rotating in Apex Legends As showcased by Apex Legends YouTuber Skeptation, the Hunted update introduced a powerful buff to Wattson’s Ultimate. Players can now place her Interception Pylon on Tridents, making them immune to throwables and regening her teammate’s shields while rotating. On top of this, the Ultimate can now be moved across the map to different locations, whereas before it was always stuck in one location. This portability is guaranteed to be useful in the later stages of a match, where positioning and taking advantage of high ground can be the difference maker between winning and losing. As this secret buff wasn’t mentioned in the patch notes, it’s hard to know whether Respawn deliberately added it to the game. Of course, there’s a chance the devs revert this change in the near future, so make the most of this trick while it lasts if you’re a Wattson main.

Secret Seer nerf removes his Recon class in Apex Legends Season 15 – Dexerto
Secret Seer nerf removes his Recon class in Apex Legends Season 15 Respawn EntertainmentSeer has been hit with a secret nerf in Apex Legends Season 15, completely removing his class Passive with no mention of the change in the Eclipse patch. While Apex Legends Season 15 may have introduced the Broken Moon map, Catalyst, and the long-awaited gifting feature, it didn’t include any Legend balance changes. This was a shock to a lot of players as Respawn almost always tweaks one or two characters in their major updates. Well, although not officially changed, Seer has been hit with an unintentional nerf that’s angered a lot of Ambush Master mains. Despite being a Legend in the Recon category, Seer is unable to use the class Passive ability anymore in Season 15. Seer is no longer a Recon Legend in Season 15 Popular Apex Legends YouTuber Skeptation has discovered that Seer was actually hit with a serious nerf in Season 15. Despite being labeled as a Recon character, the Ambush Master can no longer scan survey beacons on any of the maps. This is likely a bug as when approaching the beacons, Seer is still offered a prompt to scan them, but the function just doesn’t work anymore in Eclipse. Having a Recon character in your squad is absolutely essential for positioning and knowing where the next ring is going to be, so this is a major nerf to Seer. Although a lot of the community wanted Seer to receive a nerf in the recent patch, this is not what they had in mind. Respawn will need to fix this issue as quickly as possible, as it may have an impact on Seer’s pick rate if it is left unresolved for a long time.

Secret Seer nerf makes him much less OP in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Secret Seer nerf makes him much less OP in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentSeer’s Heartseeker Passive has been hit with a secret nerf in Apex Legends, making the ability significantly louder which allows enemies to identify his exact location. Apex Legends’ Spellbound Collection Event arrived on January 10 and while the patch notes included no character changes, a set of nerfs were still implemented in-game. These primarily affected Horizon, with the Gravitational Manipulator’s Gravity Lift and Black Hole being nerfed. While Respawn reverted Horizon’s Tactical change and admitted it had been added too early, the Ultimate downgrade has not been addressed. Well, nearly a week and a half after the update, players have discovered another secret nerf but this time it’s for Seer. The Ambush Master’s Passive is now significantly louder, making it easy for enemies to track him down if he’s using the ability nearby. Seer’s Passive secretly nerfed in Spellbound update Over the past few seasons, the Apex Legends community has called on the devs to nerf Seer as in their opinion, his kit is overloaded and makes it too easy to track down opponents with his scans. While Respawn assured players that nerfs were coming and expected to arrive in Season 16, it appears the devs have pushed one change out early. As showcased by NRG Sven, his Heartseeker Passive that scans the heartbeats of enemies is now significantly louder. This means he can be heard utilizing the ability from a long distance, exposing his position ahead of a gunfight and potentially comprising his teammates. For now, it’s impossible to know whether the devs deliberately added this with the Collection Event, or if it will be removed in the near future. Either way, it adds a level of counterplay to Seer’s scans and gives opponents in the nearby area an extra level of awareness that they’re being scanned. One con is that the audio cue is so loud, it has the potential to cover up footsteps, but in close-quarters gunfights, that’s unlikely to be a problem in the majority of scenarios.

‘Secret’ passive ability found with Gibraltar’s shield in Apex Legends – Dexerto
‘Secret’ passive ability found with Gibraltar’s shield in Apex Legends Tu Bui/Respawn EntAn Apex Legends player has shared their discovery of a ‘secret’ passive ability relating to gentle giant Gibraltar. Did you know this existed? Whenever a game revolves around uniquely-skilled characters, there are bound to be calls for nerfs and buffs. The way the legends interact with each other and the environment around them is central to Apex Legends, but balancing can often prove an incredibly difficult task. While Gibraltar’s slower speed and monumental hit-box saw him initially unpopular in Apex Legends, he has come into his own as the game has aged and the meta has shifted. His Gun Shield and Dome of Protection make him the perfect legend to soak up offensive pressure, while his teammates look for ways to counter. It is his Gun Shield that was brought under the microscope by one player, who pointed out a ‘secret’ passive ability, that enables players to recharge it much faster than the standard nine seconds. “I’ve become aware nobody realizes this so I’ve come here to spread the word and inform as many people as possible,” u/TheRealboi77 said. “Once you have broken Gibraltar’s gun shield, if he uses one shield cell it’s automatically recharged. So in hindsight let’s say you are 1v1ing a Gibraltar (god knows that’s the worst case scenario) you each pop a cell he gains 75 hp and you gain 25.” “This is so insanely OP and nobody even realizes it,” they finished. “And let’s say he doesn’t use a cell, then it’s only an 8 second recharge on it. Still super stupid good and highly overlooked.” Gibraltar is already one of Apex Legends’ most popular characters, but this passive ability means he can soak up even more damage than most players realize. His Gun Shield can essentially skip it’s recharge time and be fully restored through a single Shield Cell, which takes just 3 seconds to use. As the player states, this means Shield Cells can essentially provide Gibraltar with 75 health, as opposed to the 25 they provide for every other legend. Whether you already knew this or are finding out for the first time, it makes Gibraltar all the more powerful.

Secret Octane Stim trick increases weapon accuracy in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Secret Octane Stim trick increases weapon accuracy in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentA useful Stim trick on Octane allows you to enhance your accuracy while ADSing in Apex Legends, making it easy to land headshots. In Apex Legends Season 12, it’s no surprise to see that Octane is the most popular character in the game with a 12.5% overall pick rate. The High-speed Daredevil’s unrivaled mobility and powerful Ultimate make him an asset to any squad. Whether it’s outmaneuvering opponents with his movement speed or engaging from a distance with the low-cooldown Launch Pad, Octane is a force to be reckoned with in the right players’ hands. Now, a useful Stim trick has been discovered that even helps Octane’s weapon accuracy, allowing players to land more headshots with the daredevil. Octane Stim trick helps him land more shots As showcased by Apex Legends YouTuber The Gaming Merchant, it’s possible to improve Octane’s accuracy by using his Stim at the perfect moment. While ADSing with a 2x or 3x scope, Stimming will steady your aim and cause your camera to zoom in slightly, giving you a better chance of landing your shots. This is ideal when you’re looking to snipe an opponent from a distance or control your recoil with an AR at medium-range. It is worth noting that using Stim will run down your health bar, so be careful using this trick if you’re being shot by an opposing squad. Without a doubt, this is a tip every Octane player should know, as it could provide the boost of accuracy needed to finish off an opponent. While it’s definitely powerful, this trick isn’t going to turn you into aceu overnight, but it will improve your ability to land headshots and maybe even secure you an extra victory once in a while.

Secret Octane buff confirmed in Apex Legends that Respawn didn’t announce – Dexerto
Secret Octane buff confirmed in Apex Legends that Respawn didn’t announce Respawn/EAApex Legends players have finally proven that the long-speculated buff to Octane’s health recharge is real, and works slightly faster than reported. All the way back in Season 1, Octane was the first new legend to be added to Apex Legends outside of the original cast of characters. The speedy daredevil was used by many players right away, as they tried to get to grips with him, but he slowly faded down the popularity rankings as more legends were added. In Season 7, Respawn finally gave Octane some long-awaited changes, making him a popular legend once again, as players use his speed to dive headfirst into fights. The main change that was made to Octane came to his stim ability, doubling the healing rate from 0.5 HP per second to 1 HP per second. However, players have long believed that this is wrong. Some have pointed out that they heal quicker than that, but Respawn has never made an attempt to clarify things, with them stating that it’s still 1 HP per second in the Chaos Theory event patch notes. Well, after some testing, Redditor guntassingh26 showed that those theories are indeed correct and the daredevil recovers health at around 1.5 HP per second instead. With their theory been proven right, players quickly called on the devs to clarify things, and maybe even nerf the legend because of the mistake. Others suggested that it might have even slipped under Respawn’s radar and that they simply missed it when making the change. It remains to be seen if the devs will do anything as a result, either in the way of nerfing the legend or clearing up what his recharge rate is actually supposed to be.

Secret Lifeline nerf in Apex Legends Season 5 has players upset – Dexerto
Secret Lifeline nerf in Apex Legends Season 5 has players upset Respawn EntertainmentA lot of Apex Legends players are not happy about an apparent change to Lifeline’s Heal Drone that was not disclosed in the Season 5: Fortune’s Favor update patch notes. The launch of Season 5 brought a lot of new content and changes to Apex Legends, including a flurry of nerfs and buffs to several of the game’s characters. When it comes to Lifeline, there were two adjustments made – her bin ratio was increased to 20% while Knockdown Shields were removed from the loot pool of the Secret Compartments, which could only be searched through by the Combat Medic. However, it appears that there was a third tweak made, one that Respawn had stayed quiet about. Prior to the update, players were able to move around her ‘Drone of Compassion’ healing bot around by bumping into it. Now, if you try to do the same following the patch, you simply phase and pass through it without making contact, while the drone remains stationary in place. It didn’t take long for players to discover this seemingly secret nerf and for it to go rival on the Apex Legends Reddit page. The comments section is full of dozens of users expressing their resentment towards the change. Turns out, being able to push the Heal Drone around, while not one of Lifeline’s hallmark abilities, was, in fact, something people enjoyed. It certain situations, it gave them the opportunity to hide the device from enemy view, giving themselves and teammates more time to heal up. Read More: How to claim Loba Twitch Prime skin for free – “Wow, I’m actually really surprised that got nerfed,” wrote user ‘MrTully23.’ “It’s not like we could run with the drone. At best, you’re pushing that thing a few meters around a corner or something. Disappointing, now Lifeline’s Passive is the only reason to play her.” What’s likely adding to players’ deflated reactions is the fact that many were already upset by the changes made to her in the Old Ways Lore event update. Despite the buffs in that patch, many felt that the nerf to the Low Profile Passive ability, which Lifeline possesses, did more damage than good. A lot of people expected the Combat Medic to get seriously buffed in Season 5; instead, the changes were not only minimal but apparently negative, now that this secret nerf has surfaced. Of course, there’s always a chance that this change to the Heal Drone is just a glitch and not a planned nerf to the Legend. Since it’s not in the patch notes, we won’t be able to know for sure until Respawn comment on it. Furthermore, seeing as how so many users, it wouldn’t be unthinkable for the devs to revert the healing robot back to its pre-Season 5 functionality, which would probably make a lot of fans happy and more willing to use Lifeline.

Secret L-STAR feature makes it the most underrated weapon in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Secret L-STAR feature makes it the most underrated weapon in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends YouTuber Gaming Merchant has explained why the L-STAR is underrated and it’s thanks to a “secret” long-range feature. Since arriving in Apex Legends all the way back in Season 2, the L-STAR has never been a particularly popular weapon with the community. While the LMG has had its time in the meta for short periods of time, its red plasma orb projectiles, strange recoil pattern, and overheat system make it extremely different from the rest of the guns in the Outlands. As a result, a lot of players will avoid the L-STAR completely and instead go for a more straightforward option like the R-99 or R301 Carbine. However, according to Gaming Merchant, this is a mistake as the L-STAR’s recent buffs have made it a strong choice and a “secret” feature makes it deadly at long-range. L-STAR is powerful at long-range in Apex Legends Season 14 According to the Gaming Merchant, the Apex community is sleeping on the L-STAR after the buffs that arrived for the weapon in Hunted. Respawn not only increased the number of base shots before the gun overheats, but they also increased its projectile speed, making it extremely powerful at long range. Paired with the weapon’s low bullet drop-off, the LMG is now a deadly option for beaming enemies from afar, especially with the right scope. Finally, Gaming Merchant shared a “secret” feature that a lot of players overlook when it comes to the L-STAR, and it may change your mind about using it in the future. The bullet size of the L-STAR grows as it travels through the air, eventually reaching 10 times the size of a standard bullet in Apex Legends. This is significant as alongside the projectile speed buffs, it’s now incredibly easy to land shots on opponents from a distance. So, next time you encounter an L-STAR, consider picking it up, especially if you’re looking for a lethal long-range weapon.

Secret Horizon passive makes her footsteps OP in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Secret Horizon passive makes her footsteps OP in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentPopular Apex Legends streamer Christian ‘Nokokopuffs’ Feliciano has showcased a hidden Horizon passive that makes her footstep audio overpowered. While cheaters, matchmaking, and balancing are all major points of discussion within the Apex Legends community at the moment, audio issues are another complaint that never seems to go away. Being able to hear your enemies clearly during an intense gunfight is absolutely essential, especially in the final stages of a match. While every character in Apex is designed to produce footstep cues when they move in a certain direction, Horizon’s slower and floaty movement does give her an advantage. Well, Nokokopuffs has showcased that when moving around corners, the Gravitational Manipulator barely makes any footstep audio as her footsteps slow down even more than usual. Horizon’s footstep audio is OP in Apex Legends During a recent stream, Noko decided to showcase why Horizon’s footstep audio is overpowered compared to other Legends on the roster. Thanks to her Spacewalk passive that gives her floaty footsteps, the Gravitational Manipulator produces fewer audio cues while moving. While this is already strong, Noko demonstrated that when moving around corners or in a circle, she barely makes any sound at all, making it impossible to track her movement. This is immensely powerful in end-game circles and shows off an extra secret element to her passive that very few players know about. Although Noko questions whether this feature is a bug, it seems unlikely given that the slow movement is programmed to be in sync with the audio. So, it seems Respawn did intend for this to be an element of Horizon’s kit, despite Noko calling it “messed up”. Some members of the community do disagree though, arguing that Horizon’s height justifies her bigger strides: “She has long legs, that’s why she doesn’t make a step as often as Wraith with 2/3 height”. Either way, this is just another reason to play Horizon, who already has an impressive 8% pick rate in Season 15.

Secret Flatline buff discovered in Apex Legends Season 6 – Dexerto
Secret Flatline buff discovered in Apex Legends Season 6 Respawn EntertainmentPopular Apex Legends YouTuber Zeus has shed light on “secret” weapon changes made by Respawn in the recent Season 6 update, specifically pertaining to the VK-47 Flatline. As has become customary with the world’s largest games, fans now expect the biggest meta shakeups with the launch of new seasons. This proved the case once again with Apex Legends Season 6, which went live on August 18 and introduced Rampart to the fray. The full patch notes also confirmed legend adjustments, weapon tuning and World’s Edge map changes. However, some players have claimed that secret weapon balancing changes flew under the patch notes. One weapon that remained absent from the update’s official changes was the VK-47 Flatline, the heavy ammunition AR that deals significant damage in exchange for moderate recoil. Secret Flatline recoil change In an August 21 YouTube video, popular Apex player Zeus confirms these rumors, stating that the VK-47 Flatline received a reduction to its horizontal recoil. The Flatline has always been a high-damage weapon in Apex, but is balanced by its fairly choppy recoil. This appears to have changed in Season 6 though, as Zeus and other Flatline players suggest it’s received a major reduction in its sideways kick. “Now this wasn’t in any patch notes,” he said, “but they definitely made a change to the Flatline. It now has less sideways recoil. It’s not a conspiracy theory, I’m not the only one saying it. Multiple Flatline users have come out about this, and it is a fact.” Topic starts at 7:52 Many players are convinced that the Flatline was buffed in the Season 6 update, despite its omission from Respawn’s official patch notes. We have seen other battle royales, namely Fortnite and Warzone, also omit certain changes from their patch notes, sometimes to players’ annoyance. We will, of course, update you if Respawn break their silence regarding the Flatline’s “secret” buff, or if any more changes that did not feature in the patch notes are uncovered.

Secret Caustic hiding ability discovered in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Secret Caustic hiding ability discovered in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends trick with Caustic has been giving players a way to safely hide the large-frame Legend using his Tactical Ability. Since Respawn Entertainment launched their battle royale on February 4, players have been finding some of the strangest uses for every character in the game. From Wattson’s Perimeter Security to Wraith’s Into the Void, there are various ways to fool the competition. But players were a bit surprised to find that Caustic, a Legend in the game with one of the biggest character models, actually has a pretty effective technique to go stealth in certain situations. In a Reddit post, user ‘Negoneon’ uploaded a clip that showed him navigating through a precarious situation in the latter moments of a match. With a Bangalore on the hunt for the low-health player, Caustic was struggling to find a safe spot to pop the 10-second timer of the Phoenix Kit. Well with nowhere else to hide, the player figured to throw down a couple of Nox Gas Traps, but positioned one nestled between a few rocks. They stood over it, waiting for the trap to expand while they used the Kit, and it worked like a charm. The trick might not have covered Caustic completely, but it definitely covered him enough. Mere moments later the player rotated his view to look behind them, and Negoneon noticed the Bangalore emerge from the gases, just to slip on by. It seems like the trick managed to deceive at least one player since Negoneon was able to finish healing up. They then quickly broke into a sprint heading toward the opposite direction of the hunting player for shelter. While the technique provides a hilarious use for the Nox Gas Traps, some players cautioned that this might not be a trick to constantly rely on. “It’s KIND OF useful, but don’t kid yourself,” one user wrote. “If you look at the trap, what you’ll see is a Nox trap that clearly has a Caustic attempting to hide inside it. But like your clip, a lot of people will run right by and not give it a second glance.” Regardless, this trick could help out a player or two if they find themselves in a pinch on their way to an Apex Legends match win.

Secret buff in Apex Legends has made Havoc Rifle very powerful – Dexerto
Secret buff in Apex Legends has made Havoc Rifle very powerful Drift0r – YT / Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have discovered a silent buff made to the Havoc Rifle that has made the weapon significantly more potent. Introduced a few weeks after the initial launch of Apex Legends, the Havoc’s effectiveness as a top-tier weapon has often been the topic of much debate among players. While the rifle’s damage profile has always boasted impressive stats, its most negative aspect has always been the fact that it must be charged up before firing, unless equipped with the Turbocharger Hop-up. However, the recently released update for the launch of Season 2 has apparently buffed the Havoc to the point where it doesn’t really require the Turbocharger to become truly elite. The change, which was not included in the update’s weapon tuning patch notes, now allows players to shoot the rifle without having to charge it up first, even without the powerful Hop-up equipped. This discovery was brought to light by Reddit user ‘spairus,’ who posted a video showing how players can overcome the lack of a Turbocharger to still be able to fire the Havoc rapidly right from the start. The secret is actually tapping the shoot button for the first six rounds, rather than holding it down, which not only gets those shots out normally, it also allows for the rest of the magazine to be fired as if the weapon had been fully charged. “Undocumented Havoc major buff: you can now tap with minimal delay!” the user wrote. “Consequently, you can now basically eliminated the need for a Turbocharger by tapping the first six rounds of every spray, and firing normally for the rest of the magazine.” As one would expect, the discovery of this buff has started to get a lot of attention on Reddit and social media, with players realizing that they could now use the Havoc to devastating effect, with or without a Turbocharger. The reason for why Respawn Entertainment didn’t include this in the patch notes remains unclear, although it’s likely because the developers probably didn’t implement the change intentionally. If that is the case, it could mean that the buff may end up being patched up at some point, especially now that more people are starting to talk about it.

Secret Bangalore passive in Apex Legends lets her instantly destroy doors – Dexerto
Secret Bangalore passive in Apex Legends lets her instantly destroy doors Respawn EntertainmentA secret passive ability for Bangalore has been discovered in Apex Legends, allowing her to instantly destroy doors with a single melee attack. A member of the original Apex Legends roster, Bangalore is an iconic character who has always maintained a stable pick rate. While she’s never been the most popular Legend, her combination of smokes, speed, and deadly zoning Ultimate makes her a force to be reckoned with in the Outlands. However, despite being used by millions of players over the years, Professional Soldier mains are still discovering new mechanics in her kit. One of which allows Bangalore to instantly destroy doors with the help of her trusty smoke ability. Bangalore can break down doors with one hit in Apex Legends Popular Apex Legends YouTuber Skeptation has found a secret passive ability for Bangalore that is incredibly useful for fans of the Professional Solider. While most Legends have to hit a door with two melee attacks before it breaks, Bangalore can use her smoke on the door so it only requires a single hit. This makes it easy to trick players who attempt to hide behind doors to heal. However, it’s worth noting you have to be at least 15 meters away from the door while using her Tactical for this to work. As enemies will expect multiple attacks on a door before it shatters, they’re unlikely to cancel their heal, effectively giving you a free kill. Another interesting aspect of this trick is that after using the smoke to trigger the first hit, the door will not appear damaged like normal. This means opponents are even more likely to be caught off-guard and while it’s certainly a niche technique, it’s definitely a must-know mechanic for Bangalore mains. A lot of intense gunfights lead to enemies healing behind doors and now, you’ll have a counter ready to eliminate them with ease.

Secret Apex Legends mechanic lets players jump around when downed – Dexerto
Secret Apex Legends mechanic lets players jump around when downed Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players usually are left for dead when downed and crawling in a contested warzone, but there’s actually a better way for them to get to safer spots while waiting to get revived. Respawn Entertainment released Apex Legends on February 4 and its servers were immediately bombarded by millions of players in the following weeks. Since then the community has been finding loads of secrets and bugs throughout the game. While some discoveries have spelled doom for a lot of players in their games, others have given them new tactics to explore to hopefully make their matches better to play. Jumping up when downed In a Reddit post, user ‘someuniquename’ gave an eye-opening pro tip for when players get downed in King’s Canyon that lets them hop to safer locations. While downed, by pushing the Sprint and Jump buttons simultaneously, players can get a pretty good leap off the ground. Not to be confused with mantling, the mechanic can be used near or away from walls and objects. “You can jump anywhere,” someuniquename explained. “It’s not mantling. It is jumping. Press your sprint and jump button [when downed] at the same time to jump!” To clarify, a player cannot use either Sprint or Jump alone while downed. But when used in conjunction it’ll create the effect which makes repositioning to a better spot all the more possible. How can this be useful? In the same clip, someuniquename is seen bleeding out in a very exposed spot. After they went around a six-wheeled truck, the Redditor used the trick to hop over to the sidewalk and then onto the truck. After getting better positioning, they were able to nestle into the bed of the truck which looks like it was made for this trick since both players were able to safely and discreetly carry out the revive. In a separate Twitter post, someuniquename even showed how they managed to get from ground level all the way to the top of a structure using the nifty mechanic. Calculated and diverse movement in Apex Legends can make the difference between life or death, and this trick could definitely help prevent the latter.

Secret Apex Legends Easter Egg found near Mirage Voyage – Dexerto
Secret Apex Legends Easter Egg found near Mirage Voyage Apex Legends players have uncovered another easter egg inside World’s Edge, this time centering around Mirage and his growing backstory. For the past few weeks, Apex Legends fans have been taking part in one huge Easter Egg hunt across World’s Edge and the Firing Range practice map. This was all sparked by the Respawn Entertainment team hinting at secrets being unfound despite the game being out for nearly a full year. Players quickly found easter eggs relating to Star Wars, bringing the practice dummies to life, and even going into third-person. Yet, a new one has been uncovered inside the Holo-Day Bash area of the Mirage Voy’age – and it comes from an emotional datamined phone call. The secret was uncovered by Reddit user ElektrikGamer, who showcased the location of the audio recording on the Apex Legends subreddit. In the clip, Mirage can be heard recording a somewhat emotional message to his mother, telling her about his limited-time event, as well as trying to strike up a conversation. They asked me to take over the games for a bit during the holidays, it makes sense, you know,” says Mirage. “I mean, give the fine people of the Outlands what they want, right?” However, the bamboozling legend has to remind his mom of his name, and exactly who he is, seemingly – with his tone of voice changing from his normal cocky self to becoming slightly more reserved. Some players pointed out that this is likely another part of his lore – trying to do something good for his seemingly sick mother, as well as using his real name of Elliot. “All aboard the feel train. It’s near the regular train,” added willers1080. Another going by the username Aussy5798 commented: “That was kinda sad.” Comment byu/ElektrikGamer from discussion inapexlegends Anyone who wants to find the recording in-game will just have to go near the Mirage Voy’age and take a look through a few of the rock formations that are in the surrounding area. The Respawn team have dropped plenty of lore hints since the game has been released, with some hinting at more content than others. Whether or not this will lead to anything bigger, however, remains to be seen.

Secret Apex Legends Care Package buff makes legendary weapons easier to find – Dexerto
Secret Apex Legends Care Package buff makes legendary weapons easier to find Respawn/EAFeel like you’ve been encountering the Kraber a bit more often in Apex Legends? Well, that’s because the spawn rates of Care Package weapons has been buffed quite significantly. With the start of Apex Legends Season 14: Hunted, Respawn dropped a whole host of changes onto the battle royale – introducing Vantage as the new legend, updating the layout of Kings Canyon, and upping the level cap at long last. In terms of changes to weapons, we didn’t get a new weapon to go alongside the release of the new update, but plenty of tweaks have been made to the loot pool with the Rampage and Bocek Bow heading into the Care Package. The two popular weapons have joined the Kraber and Mastiff as the battle royale’s rarest and most powerful weapons, however, they’re dropping a little more than normal. Apex Legends care package weapons spawn rate changed That’s right, if you’ve been noticing that the Kraber spawns a bit more frequently in matches these days, you aren’t alone and you’re not experiencing some sort of placebo effect. Instead, Respawn have pushed up the spawn rates of each weapon to 25% across the early, mid, and late game care packages according to dataminer Senos. “So, for some reason, all care package weapons have a 25% chance of spawning in any given round,” they tweeted on August 20. Plenty of fans quickly noted that they’ve seen plenty of Krabers in the first drop – which previously had a spawn chance of around 7% – rather than the late game. “Round 1 Kraber seemed a LOT more common. And the number of late game Rampages too frequent,” said one. “I got two round one Mastiffs last night. As a new Maggie main, it made me weep tears of joy,” added another. “I was positive they buffed Kraber spawn rate and this explains it,” commented another. Of course, with four weapons having a 25% chance of dropping, they’re all equal and one weapon isn’t going to appear more commonly than the others. Though, it might be something Respawn tweaks as the season goes on.

Second Apex Legends Season 6 teaser appears on World’s Edge map – Dexerto
Second Apex Legends Season 6 teaser appears on World’s Edge map Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer UQowmNq2]The next teaser in Apex Legends has landed, or rather is getting ready to take off, as a new Season 6 clue has appeared on World’s Edge. Apex players received the first glimpse of what looks to be a part of a larger rocket on July 30. Although it’s far from complete, the teaser is already fueling speculation for what it could mean for the Legends who could be departing for Psmathe. The teaser is located at the Sorting Factory that lies south of the Fuel Depot and west of Lava City. A hard-to-miss crane with an orange base has appeared on the south side of the high tier loot location carrying an enormous piece of machinery. While it doesn’t look like much, with what we already know of the Apex story, this could be the first look at the next major vessel of the upcoming season. We already know that Loba’s mission to finally kill Revenant is going to take her to Psmathe. The planet has already been mentioned in passing since it’s the homeworld of Mirage and Lifeline, but we still haven’t gotten a good look at it. This faraway land houses Olympus, a city in the skies from the sound of it, which could be the third location of the Apex Games, following Kings Canyon and World’s Edge. But our cast of characters are going to need a way to get there. The first time that Respawn introduced a new map in Season 3, the studio tweeted out the head of the dropship peering out through a heavily clouded sky. Fast-forward three more seasons, Respawn could be using World’s Edge as the platform to launch us into the next location they have in mind for the battle royale. If this new crane is indeed carrying the base of a rocket ship, then that’s likely the vehicle that the characters will use to visit Olympus. Read more: How to loot faster in Apex Legends – Other possibilities could include some sort of development with Hammond Robotics’ technological hold on W.E. This could be another step forward in the mysterious intentions of the company, since the first batch of teasers might have suggested an expanded presence and updates to the Arena. In either case, there are still four more phases of clues that are scheduled to come out in Respawn’s game within the next couple of weeks, so we’ll be finding out a lot more very soon. Make sure to check out our Apex Legends Season 6 hub for all of the teasers so far and what they could mean.

Season 11 Legend in Apex Legends will make Wraith less popular according to Aceu – Dexerto
Season 11 Legend in Apex Legends will make Wraith less popular according to Aceu Respawn/Twitch: AceuNRG’s Brandon ‘AceU’ Win claims that the next character to be added to Apex Legends spells bad news for Wraith and the ‘Interdimensional Skirmisher’ won’t be played for much longer. Wraith has been the go-to character for Apex Legends pretty much since Respawn released their battle royale over two years ago. She’s always been incredibly powerful and her speed makes her perfect for players who are both desperate to get into fights, and those who want to sneak away when the going gets tough. Like every other legend, she has been hit with tweaks over time and while some players have started to test others, they usually return to the Interdimensional Skirmisher. Though, that could all change when Season 11 rolls around according to Aceu. The former CS:GO pro turned content creator as chatting with viewers during his September 29 stream as he started to make his way into a new game after getting punished by a Wraith and her team in the previous one. He joked that Wraith should be able to get a heads up on players behind walls given the “x-ray meta” that has taken over Apex, but switched to talking about her future. “Dude, I’m telling you… I can’t wait for you guys to see the next legend,” Ace said without giving too much away as to who it might be. “Wraith is actually never going to be played.” Fans, not settling for the small teaser, pushed the streamer for further details while others said he was just trolling them and letting them hear what they wanted to hear. Of course, there have been rumors about the next legend – supposedly named Maali – who may have a similar passive to Bangalore’s Double Time where she gets a speed boost after being shot. However, unlike previous seasons, there hasn’t been anything concrete on the new legend to this point so we’ll just have to wait and see if Aceu’s predictions ends up being spot on.

Seagull baffled at Apex Legends no reg shots with Kraber and Arc Star – Dexerto
Seagull baffled at Apex Legends no reg shots with Kraber and Arc Star Seagull Twitch / Respawn EntertainmentFormer Overwatch pro Brandon ‘Seagull’ Larned felt the impact that the hit registration (reg) issues can have in Apex Legends – making him miss a would-be incredible Kraber headshot and point blank Arc Star stick. Luckily, Respawn Entertainment are already fully aware of the issue as an influx of player complaints and community backlash have echoed the same plea for the devs to address the frequent issue. For a lot of players, that patch couldn’t come soon enough as they’re finding the most bizarre forms of hit reg affecting their games. Seagull came across at least two instances in a single stream in which the Apex issues derailed what would otherwise be clean takedowns. While navigating an extended firefight, the streamer was surprised by a player making their way up from below. Instinctively, they flicked to their position to throw what would have been a point blank Arc Star stick. “Oh sh*t,” Seagull said, realizing that the explosive didn’t quite stick to its intended target. Even though the sound queue went off, the former Dallas Fuel Flex star was surprised to see the Arc Star disappear in totality. “‘Oh well, that sounded like it stuck by the way,’” Seagull read before responding. “Yeah, I know it did. I got very confused because I heard a stuck noise with an Arc Star.” The player was downed almost immediately after the error, and it wouldn’t be the last time they noticed an unfortuitous hit reg issue. Later in the stream, Seagull was equipped with a Kraber .50-cal Sniper and perfectly predicted the trajectory of an Octane boosted by his Launch Pad. But the ensuing shot didn’t register to the jettisoned player, even as the game showed a splatter of blood coming from the Adrenaline Junkie’s head. Seagull managed to get immediate recompense with Octane’s teammate instead, so the hit reg didn’t have too much of a heinous consequence that time around. Though hit reg has been a persistent issue in Apex Legends, the community are excited that the Respawn team have the problem in their sights for a fix that will hopefully come soon.

Scrapped Titanfall campaign reveals similarity to Apex Legends story – Dexerto
Scrapped Titanfall campaign reveals similarity to Apex Legends story Respawn EntertainmentA first-ever look at the scrapped campaign from the original Titanfall has been revealed by a Respawn developer who is now the design director on Apex Legends. Titanfall was the first game made by Respawn Entertainment, after the studio formed from a group of devs who left Infinity Ward after Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Although the sequel released with a now critically-acclaimed campaign, the first game in the series focused solely on multiplayer – but it turns out this wasn’t always the plan. In fact, the studio had created a fully functioning demo for a campaign, which never saw the light of day, until Jason McCord shared footage on Twitter on September 21. The gameplay is a throwback to the old Titanfall experience, but there’s no titans or combat on show here, just some exposition and basic movement. Did you know? We worked on a Titanfall 1 Single Player campaign for a bit in ~2012, before scrapping it and focusing on MP. @slaypiece and I made the demo, and it looked a lot like this… pic.twitter.com/uAXbyFvkkT— Jason McCord (@Monsterclip_JM) September 21, 2020 For Apex players, there’s actually a link here to the Kings Canyon map. The protagonist describes the ‘Wildlife control tower’ as “what stops the creatures from coming in.” In Season 2 of Apex Legends, Crypto destroys a similar tower on Kings Canyon, known as the repulsor tower, which causes the infestation of flyers and leviathans on the map. The plan for this mission seems to be similar – destroy the repulsor tower to create a diversion. There’s also other familiar features, such as the MRVNs (robots like Pathfinder). Sharing this clip will no doubt get Titanfall fans hoping for another entry in the series, but so far, there’s been limited news on a third game. Although, During EA’s last financial call, CFO Blake Jorgensen did say “Maybe we’ll see Titanfall sometime down the road” – so all hope is not lost.

ScHoolboy Q explains why Apex Legends is better than Fortnite – Dexerto
ScHoolboy Q explains why Apex Legends is better than Fortnite EA / Hot OnesRapper ScHoolboy Q gave his opinion on what was better between Fortnite and Apex Legends on an episode of Hot Ones. With Season 2 of Apex Legends coming up, many eyes are focused on how it will be able to compete with Fortnite. Respawn promises a much improved Battle Pass and based on what we’ve seen so far from the season, Fortnite does appear to have Apex as a competitor again. ScHoolboy Q weighed in on what he thinks is better while enjoying some delicious flaming hot chicken wings. Fortnite or Apex? You might get a vastly different answer on what’s better between the two depending on who you ask, but ScHoolboy Q thinks the answer is clear. “Fortnite was dope when it first came out,” he said. “I was fuckin with it. I was going in. But then they started making it weak, kid-friendly ya know what I mean? Once a game gets so big they have no choice but to cater to the weaker side of it.” He didn’t stop there as the SoCal rapper also said Apex is killing Fortnite right now, which is definitely up for debate. “As of right now, Apex is shittin’ on Fortnite,” he said. “But Apex is growing rapidly, crazy, crazy. It’s gonna be just as big as Fortnite and they are gonna cater to a bunch of weak ass, lil ass, punk ass kids. Then I’m gonna be right back to ol’ faithful Call of Duty.” (Conversation begins at 10:55) Apex Legends Season 2 begins on July 2 and with it comes a brand-new Battle Pass, new challenges, a new Legend in Wattson, and much more. Fortnite always brings a plethora of new content with its seasons too and usually does something to shake up the meta. It will be interesting to see how the two compare with both dishing out new content in the very near future.

#SaveApexRanked trends on Twitter as top players call for changes – Dexerto
#SaveApexRanked trends on Twitter as top players call for changes Respawn EntertainmentA ton of Apex Legends streamers and players are calling on Respawn to do something to stop the battle royale’s ranked mode from “spiraling out of control” from cheaters by getting #SaveApexRanked trending. One of the biggest issues for Apex players of all sorts over the last few months has been what seems like the constant presence of cheaters and DDoSers in matches. If you’ve played the battle royale even semi-regularly over the last few months you’ve probably noticed one or two players who seem to have invested in a brand-new gaming chair recently, matches ending unexpectedly, or a nice frustrating mixture of both. The same day Respawn said they were looking at various options to improve their methods of detecting and banning cheaters, Sweet, an Apex Twitch streamer and NRG pro, put out a Twitlonger on June 28 that basically summarizes the communities problems with how devs are handling, or not handling cheaters. An open letter to Apex Legends developers Empty Promises and False Hope. #SaveApexRanked before it’s too late. Read: https://t.co/ruTdiQ7FGN — sweet (@sweetdreams) June 28, 2021 In the post, Sweet said he and other Apex content creators came up with the #SaveApexRanked hashtag because they could no longer sit by and watch “the game spiral further out of control.” “Ranked is the backbone of apex and we can’t take it much longer,” the NRG pro wrote. “We have been offered empty promises of focus on the issue, which from a results standpoint have been complete lies.” The problem isn’t just cheating in games, but also DDoS attacks against Apex’s servers when one of the cheaters does get knocked out. “This issue is not only a NA/EU one, which all times of day you can almost 100% get a cheater in your lobby who even IF killed, will IMMEDIATELY DDOS the server and take it down so nobody can continue to play, and you then queue into the next game with them again,” Sweet explained. “There are entire regions who are unable to play the game due to this, it’s sad. I sparingly use the word pathetic, but in this case it really has been pathetic to watch cheaters all but control the ranked ladder for the better part of 7 months.” #SaveApexRanked starts trending It didn’t take long at all for the hashtag Sweet included with his Twitlonger, #SaveApexRanked, to start trending on Twitter with players and influencers alike tweeting out the tag. If you like ranked, or just wanna help the game to be better, very simply, fucking tweet out #SaveApexRanked — Rogue (@TTrebb) June 28, 2021 Like we mentioned, this all comes the same day as Respawn detailed how they were “pursuing several options” to fix this very issue, but whether or not they’ll respond to this latest push from the community remains to be seen.

Russia considering ban on Apex Legends & Overwatch 2 over “LGBT propaganda” – Dexerto
Russia considering ban on Apex Legends & Overwatch 2 over “LGBT propaganda” Respawn / ActivisionOverwatch 2 and Apex Legends could soon be banned in Russia, according to a report stating a list of so-called “LGBT propaganda” games is being formed. On October 27, the BBC reported Russia was extending its ban on all “gay propaganda” sharing to all adults, toughening its 2013 laws that made the act of providing information about being LGBT to children illegal. Making reference to transgender people, Russia now prohibits information that may “cause minors to desire to change their sex”. The changes in Russian law look set to affect the video game industry in the country, too. Russia may ban Overwatch, Apex Legends & The Sims Several major franchises have been named on a list for a potential future ban, with State Duma proposing a ban on November 11 for those promoting LGBT. The first deputy chairman of State Duma Committee on Education, Yana Lantratova, has proposed that a number of video games featuring LGBTQIA characters are removed from circulation. If the proposal is approved, players and video game developers would be liable in the way of fines. These fines would be up to five million rubles for legal entities, for example. Which video games could be banned in Russia? According to a report from Gazeta.ru, the following games were listed as those that may be banned in Russia: Apex Legends – Assassin’s Creed – Borderlands – Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Dragon Age – Fallout – Life Is Strange – The Last of Us – Rim World – Overwatch – The Sims 3 – “We are talking about the promotion of non-traditional relationships, when they are served as the norm, something attractive,” Lantratova said. In Overwatch 2, Tracer and Soldier 76 are both confirmed to be gay. In Apex Legends, Bloodhound, Gibraltar, Loba, Fuse, Valkyrie, Seer, and Catalyst are all LGBTQIA characters.

Apex Legends: Who is Rosie? Everything we know from leaks and rumors – Dexerto
Apex Legends: Who is Rosie? Everything we know from leaks and rumors The next Apex Legends character is yet to be revealed by developers Respawn, but there has been plenty of speculation about the addition of mysterious character called Rosie, or Loba, from leaks, rumors and teasers. Here’s everything we know so far about Rosie. Most leaks actually point to the next legend coming to Kings Canyon being Crypto, and admittedly there is a lot more information available about him than Rosie – you can see everything we know about Crypto here. However, Respawn hasn’t yet confirmed that Crypto is next, and there continues to be a stream of leaks about Rosie that cannot be ignored, potentially even hinting at a Season 3 release. Who is Rosie? Rosie was first discovered soon after Apex Legends launch in February 2019, in a leak which revealed the names of eleven unreleased legends in the game files. Rosie was buried away at the bottom of the list, and didn’t attract much attention, but more recent leaks have brought her to the fore. Although many of the other characters had their game files removed, Rosie has remained, and new files have been added. According to leaker That1MiningGuy, it’s possible that Rosie was in fact Wattson’s tutor, when she was growing up in Kings Canyon, as explained in his leak video. What are Rosie’s abilities? Further leaks have seemingly confirmed at least the working names and descriptions of Rosie’s abilities. In the files, it appears Rosie is also referred to as ‘Loba’ and described as a ‘translocating thief’. According to the game files, her abilities are as follows: Eye for quality: Loba (Rosie) can see through walls and can open up hidden compartments in loot bins. – Supply for demand: Hold (button) to choose a type of loot. Reveal that type of loot in the area through walls – Burglar’s best friend: Throw a disc and teleport to that location – Black Market Boutique: Place a device that can steal all nearby loot – When will Rosie be added to Apex Legends? From what we know, it’s expected that Crypto will still be the next legend added to the game, after all, he was explicitly teased in the Season 2 trailer. So far, new legends have only ever been added at the start of new seasons, but, since he was teased in the Season 2 trailer, it’s possible Crypto will be added at some point before Season 3 begins in October. This would open up a window for Rosie to release along with Season 3, or, if Crypto is pushed back till Season 3, it might not be until Season 4 in 2020 that Rosie is added. Did Respawn tease Rosie? Like with Crypto, Respawn has remained tight-lipped on the existence of Rosie in Apex Legends, but it’s possible that a lead developer left a teaser right in front of everyone’s nose. On August 1, Tina Sanchez, a producer on Apex Legends, posted an image of a motion capture session, and the actor looks suspiciously like they could be Rosie’s character. Working on Apex Legends stuff :lovestruck:@jitterbot @_moyparra pic.twitter.com/CeGxxqvldR — Tina Sanchez (@Teanah) August 1, 2019 When asked if the motion capture was for Crypto, Sanchez simply replied with a closed mouth – giving nothing away. It should be noted that Rosie is likely still in development, and nothing is final or confirmed until Respawn themselves make the big reveal. For now, we will just have to wait in anticipation for the addition of Rosie, potentially the third or fourth new legend to join the fight at Kings Canyon, depending on whether she or Crypto comes first. We will keep this article updated as more details about Rosie become available.

Riskiest and most dangerous places to land on Apex Legends Season 3 map – Dexerto
Riskiest and most dangerous places to land on Apex Legends Season 3 map There are a lot of places to land on the new Apex Legends: Season 3 map World’s Edge, and Reddit user ‘6acee’ has determined which locations are the riskiest options. Noticeably bigger than its predecessor King’s Canyon, the new World’s Edge map offers a lot of choices when it comes to deciding where to land at the start of a match, each one having its own pros and cons. As is the case with most battle royale maps, some of these locations are more dangerous destinations than others, mainly because they are popular landing spots, also known as ‘hot drops,’ and the chances of running into a team and dying early are heightened. With that in mind, 6acee generated and posted a hot-spot map on Reddit showing which points-of-interest are riskier than others. He deems the red locations to have the highest risk, followed by orange, yellow, and lastly green, which has “insanely low risk” attached to it as a landing spot. The riskiest drops on Apex Legends World’s Edge map The player considers Capitol City, Sorting Factory, and The Trainyard to be the most dangerous POIs, mainly due to their loot and location. Take Capitol City for example – it is a sprawling metropolis that not only has a lot of good loot to offer, but is also very central on the map, meaning that wherever the circle starts out for that match, CC won’t be far away. However, with high risk comes high reward, and if your team lands at these places and plays together, loots properly, and wins early gunfights, it could set you up for a very good match. The Dome has “insanely low risk” The creator of the hot-spot map made sure to designate The Dome as the only named location to have “insanely low risk,” and this is because it is essentially has the opposite qualities of the riskier POIs. Being located on the deep southern edge of the map means that not a lot of teams like to land there, so it can be the ideal landing spot for those who want to avoid early engagements as much as possible. Read More: What’s coming in the next Apex patch? – However, there’s a reason why no one likes going there and it’s because of how skewed its location is, and any ring that starts towards the northern half of the map can lead to a very drawn out rotation. Below, you can read the Redditer’s full post on the hot-spot map and some tips and tricks that can help players navigate difficult areas on the map. World’s Edge Hotspot Map Hey guys It’s your friendly neighborhood apex player 6acee. Today I made a hotspot map and will explain a few quick tips on each location highlighted. I’ve seen a lot of people talk about how the map isn’t working for them, or they aren’t getting the kills they used to get in King’s Canyon and I’m here to show you why ! Now let’s talk about locations! High Risk: Capitol City: In my opinion one of the most popular spots currently on the map, multiple buildings, a lot of loot and A LOT of enemies. The thing people lack on this area is teamwork. Either they run around to every building alone to be the first to grab loot or they try to third party alone. STICK TOGETHER. It’s the only way to come out of Capitol City and survive. The Trainyard: CHOO CHOO do you hear that? It’s the train of enemies that’s about to run you. If you don’t want to end up as a banner chip, stick with your TEAM. Focus on looting together in a wave, and stay CLOSE TO EACH OTHER. Sorting Factory: The amount of loot bins and loot piles in this area make this a perfect drop. Once again, stick together and loot as a tsunami. If successful you will come out of there stacked and ready for the endgame. The little tower in between CC and FD: If you see a enemy team setup at the top, don’t even try to contest unless you have a gibraltar/bangalore with their ult, or a s*** ton of grenades. You will lose 80% of the time if you try to contest otherwise. Medium Risk: Skyhook: The amount of buildings in this area make it a beautiful drop. Reason it’s not a high risk is because most of the time Skyhook is never in the circle, so what happens is people forget about the time or is distracted fighting a squad and by the time they finish looting they’re already in the ring. PAY ATTENTION TO THE TIME The Epicenter: Epicenter is highlighted medium risk because of the amount of people that rotate there for a few loot bins coming out of Capitol City. Quickly loot up and either run towards Refinery if it’s in the ring, or play smart and third party at CC. Lava city: If it’s your lucky day, you’re getting in that vault and being stacked. Cargo Drone flies around LC. You will always clash with another squad in LC, I recommend rotating towards The Geyser if you survive that is 🙂 Fuel Depot: It’s that sweet scratch spot everyone loves when they finally get it. The amount of options and plays to do if you have a perfect drop makes it amazing. You will always see another squad landing with you, but if it’s your lucky day you’ll be stacked. The Tree and Thermal Station: Whenever The Tree is a HotZone, people will always rotate towards SF or TS. Reason I’m putting The Tree and Thermal Station together is because they both work in unison. Low Risk: Everything colored yellow is NO MANS LAND. You will ALWAYS see enemy’s rotating in these areas 100% of the time. Lava Fissure, Drill Site, The Geyser, Overlook, Refinery are areas people in ranked fly in for a safe drop. You will always be the only squad in that area or will have to duel with another. Insanely Low Risk and uncolored areas: In my opinion the most safest areas of the map. You will almost never see enemies rotating in these areas. The Dome will either be looted by a squad that headed to Lava city or Sorting Factory or your squad will be the first there. Thanks for reading !

Ridiculous “dora strafe” movement trick makes you levitate in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Ridiculous “dora strafe” movement trick makes you levitate in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentThe “dora strafe” movement trick has gone viral in Apex Legends as it makes players appear as if they’re floating above the ground. While gunplay will always be the most important aspect of an FPS, in Apex Legends movement is arguably just as sacred to the community. Respawn’s battle royale has garnered a reputation for its satisfying jumping, sprinting, and sliding, but players are always looking to take these base mechanics to the next level. Although bunny-hopping, wall-bouncing, and tap-strafing are all well-known techniques by now, movement experts are constantly looking to raise the bar. Well, an expert has done exactly that with the “dora strafe”, effectively allowing players to levitate in the Outlands. “Dora strafe” movement trick goes viral in Apex Legends Showcased and created by Dorao, the “dora strafe” is an extreme strafing mechanic that makes it appear as if a player is floating through the air. The technique effectively allows you to move from side to side incredibly quickly, while also maintaining a constant jumping animation. This means your character’s feet never actually touch the ground, making it appear as if you’re levitating. As expected this ridiculous movement tech is receiving a lot of attention and a huge number of players are desperate to know how to use it in-game. Although this looks insane, it’s unlikely to be more useful than typical strafe movement during an intense gunfight. Nonetheless, it’s an incredible trick that will certainly capture the attention of your enemies. For now, Dorao hasn’t revealed how to perform the movement so it’s possible they’re using config files or macros to pull off the “dora strafe”. We’ll just have to wait and see whether they release a tutorial or if they’d prefer to keep the movement a secret for the time being.

Ridiculous Apex Legends glitch swaps Gibraltar and Pathfinder models – Dexerto
Ridiculous Apex Legends glitch swaps Gibraltar and Pathfinder models Respawn EntertainmentA new glitch in Apex legends seems to be randomly switching legend’s models, and apart from being annoying, is producing some hilarious clips as well. One of the most important things in Apex is the ability to tell which character you’re going up against, which is why each legend has their own unique look. When you see a Crypto, for example, you know you’ll probably have to be on the lookout for his drone as well. That’s why players are finding a new glitch that switches characters’ appearance so annoying. While it’s not hard to see how this would be irritating, seeing Gibraltar hurtling full speed and absolutely crushing another legend using Pathfinder’s grapple is one of the funniest things we’ve seen in Apex all year. You can practically hear Gibby screaming something along the lines of “Oh yeah bruddah” as he screams towards Lifeline on the train, probably having the time of his life. When it comes to Apex Legends, Gibraltar is probably the least-mobile out of all the game’s characters, making up for it with his powerful shields. The big man just doesn’t look right swinging around like Pathfinder, but it certainly is entertaining. This character model switch is a known glitch, but it seems to happen completely randomly when it does pop up, it’s also not known if this changes your hitbox at all, either. This might honestly be a good thing though, because if players were able to reproduce it, it would be very easy to exploit. Just imagine being able to use Gibraltar’s abilities, but with a character model of Wraith (who has one of the smallest hitboxes in the game). Thankfully that’s not possible (yet) so for now we can all enjoy this clip. Even if this happened to us, we probably would be too busy cracking up to get upset.

Ridiculous Apex Legends glitch sends syringes flying on Supply Ships – Dexerto
Ridiculous Apex Legends glitch sends syringes flying on Supply Ships Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer cgdaanpd]The Supply Ships on Apex Legends’ King’s Canyon map are notoriously buggy, but a glitch that turns dropped Syringes into weird, raining confetti sets a new bar. When the return of King’s Canyon was announced for Apex Legends Season 5, many players were excited to get back to their roots. Some were worried though, as the infamously glitchy Supply Ships would be coming back too. Does this happen often on a stationary supply ship? @PlayApex playapex #apexlegends pic.twitter.com/BIoHebsnfJ — Who Games (@Swinwho) June 6, 2020 It turns out, these skeptics were right to be cautious and this first became apparent with buggy Death Boxes and a game-breaking issue that would permanently trap people within the floating ship. That proved players needed to be careful when moving near the stairwells, as an unorthodox movement could end up clipping them into and then below the stairs until the game’s end. Now, Reddit user ‘YaBoyCae’ has discovered that you must also be careful dropping items when your team is up there too. In a clip shared to the Apex Legends subreddit, they are seen dropping Syringes for their teammates—only for the healing packs to bounce around like they were possessed by a troop of antsy ghosts. YaBoyCae was left with just one call for help: “Respawn! Respawn!” They then confirmed that their teammates could indeed see this strange Syringe confetti, and that they didn’t have the faith to drop more health items for said teammates until the squad was back on the safer, more predictable ground. That helps reveal one of the King’s Canyon cardinal truths: do not trust Supply Ships. Although, YaBoyCae definitely got off easy considering how much worse some of these bugs can be. Aside from the aforementioned trapping glitch, players have been complaining since February 2019 about a bizarre reviving bug that ends up killing both you and the already-downed teammate. https://twitter.com/TheRealJR3Y/status/1095446007737769985?s=20 At the moment, Respawn Entertainment has yet to respond to this particular confetti-Syringe Supply Ship bug. Worryingly, no Supply Ship glitches actually appear on their Trello board—either in the “Investigating” or “Recently Resolved Issues” tabs. While it might be hoped that their definition of “recently” precludes most of these game-ruining glitches from being on the list because they’ve been taken care of weeks ago, there’s no way to be certain. For now, players should just remember the importance of caution when you get on the Supply Ship.

Ridiculous Apex Legends exploit gives Wraith unlimited speed boosts – Dexerto
Ridiculous Apex Legends exploit gives Wraith unlimited speed boosts Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has discovered a Wraith exploit that gives her unlimited speed boosts, making it easy to rotate across the map and dodge bullets. As with every online game, Apex Legends struggles with its fair share of bugs and glitches. Although a lot of them negatively impact the gameplay experience, some enhance it, with the low gravity firing range glitch becoming a fun activity for players outside the battle royale mode. However, it becomes a cause for concern for Respawn when a set of players discover an exploit and begin abusing it in-game. Well, that’s exactly what Historical_Permit_38 found when they decided to spectate a Wraith that killed them while playing BR. After watching the player for a short time, it became obvious that they were abusing an exploit that allowed them to speed boost around the map. Wraith movement speed boost exploit A thread posted to the Apex Legends subreddit showcasing a player abusing a Wraith speed boost exploit has garnered over 6,000 upvotes at the time of writing. After being eliminated in BR on Olympus, Historical_Permit_38 decided to spectate a Wraith in their match. However, after a short time, they noticed that the player was activating a speed boost whenever they wanted. The exploit appears to be linked to Wraith’s ultimate, as the player looked like they gained the ability to boost after they activated Dimensional Rift at the start of the clip. By the looks of it, the game appears to believe that the player is traveling through the portal over and over again. This allows the bug abuser to speed boost across the map an unlimited amount of times, making them incredibly difficult to shoot. As clarified in the comments of the thread, there seems to be a misconception that the player is using hacks, when it doesn’t look like this is the case. This is more likely an exploit that has been discovered by a player, who is now abusing it in-game to gain an advantage over their opponents. Now that this has been posted to the official Apex Legends subreddit, we’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed that the developers see the issue and look into implementing a fix as soon as possible.

Ridiculous Apex Legends bug spawns player into lobby on their own – Dexerto
Ridiculous Apex Legends bug spawns player into lobby on their own RespawnApex Legends fans are absolutely puzzled after uncovering a new bug that spawns players into a lobby on their own. The Apex Legends community is no stranger to dealing with bizarre bugs and glitches. While they’re often harmless, some are certainly frustrating to deal with. In extreme cases, bugs can sometimes be game-breaking. Recently, we’ve even seen the likes of TSM pro Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ slam the devs as “incompetent” over a bug that is causing players’ games to crash. While bugs come and go all the time, the community certainly isn’t shy to hit out at the Respawn devs when they feel necessary. Now, players have uncovered a new bug that puts them in a lobby on their own — leaving many puzzled. Apex Legends bug spawns players into lobbies on their own In a January 21 Reddit thread, Apex Legends fan MasantZA uncovered a bizarre bug. Sharing a video with the community, the player showed how they were somehow placed into a game on their own. With one else in the lobby, the player was crowned as the Apex Champion while they were still in the dropship. Others in the thread were left absolutely baffled, with many asking more questions about the bug. Some were debating whether or not OP actually gained RP. “But did you lose any RP, seeing as no one was there so no kills or ring rotations,” one asked. “That’s got to be some kind of record right there,” a player joked. “Guess the matchmaking decided you were either so good it couldn’t find anyone to match you with, or so bad it didn’t want to match you with anyone,” another added. We’re unsure how the bug occurs, but we’re sure it’ll be fixed by the Respawn when they get the chance.

Ridiculous Apex Legends bug gives the Devotion back-breaking recoil – Dexerto
Ridiculous Apex Legends bug gives the Devotion back-breaking recoil TheBETAboi via RedditA bizarre bug with the Devotion LMG in Apex Legends gives the weapon a recoil kick that just keeps on going, giving players a unique perspective in the game. The glitch seems to be purely visual from the game’s end, meaning it shouldn’t have any hindering effects on anyone during a match. In fact, Reddit user ‘TheBETAboi,’ who noticed the bug, went into the Firing Range to demonstrate how funny it looks in practice. Even among some of the heavier guns in the game, the Devotion already has some of the most potent recoils for a gun. But the bug just lets the gun’s kick go to an obnoxious level of consequence, seeing as the gun just keeps going up. While standing still, the player can be seen shooting a bullet at a time with a fully loaded Devotion without any attachments equipped. “I noticed a few interesting things about the Devotion’s recoil today,” they quipped. The clip shows him demonstrating three different perspectives of the bug, one while aiming down the sight, one while hip firing, and another hip fire angle while looking as far up as possible. The first angle showed a comical result of looking up while aiming down the Devotion’s sights. Due to the bug, the recoil kept going back with every shot. Usually, the recoil briefly displaces the player’s perspective while stopping at a certain point or resetting for the next shot. But this time, the camera kept going further making the player get a unique perspective of the Firing Range. The clip’s thread was filled with Apex community members baffled at what they say, and user ‘Random_Name_0K’ joked: “You broke your spine mate.” Other angles of the bug showed the gun perpetually tilting skyward and even going so far up that it wasn’t on the player’s screen anymore. Though the only thing that managed to stop the bug’s progression was the limit of the Devotion’s magazine, this looks like a harmless bug on the visual end of the game. With The Old Ways Lore event just kicking off, look for Respawn to do small bug fixes periodically, which could include a fix for this issue.
