  • Respawn apologize for confusing Apex Legends Pathfinder Grapple “buff” – Dexerto

Respawn apologize for confusing Apex Legends Pathfinder Grapple “buff” RespawnPathfinder mains thought they were going to be graced with a buff in the Apex Legends Aftermarket update. However, it proved to actually be a nerf. Respawn have apologized for this, and are looking at making things right with a new rework. [jwplayer KEHOOBWR] Pathfinder’s Grapple was updated during the Aftermarket update on October 6 to include a new cooldown timer that works based off the distance you traveled. Instead of it being a flat 35 seconds anymore, it would scale from 10 seconds to 35 seconds. Respawn were aiming to encourage players to use shorter grapples to move around gunfights, instead of the flashier long-range ones. “This both buffs Path a little less for the scariest robot players out there and it also opens up room for extra skill expression: can you find useful short-distance grapples that’ll give you a shorter CD but still do something good for you,” they said in the patch notes. However, the changes fell flat big time. The max range grapple distance was too short in getting the timer up to 35 seconds. On top of that, changes to when the timer started ticking — from landing instead of from initial cast — meant the cooldown was theoretically longer. Respawn have acknowledged their faults though. The devs have stated that they weren’t expecting the changes to be solely buffs, saying he’s “just too powerful” to consider a wide-sweeping upgrade. “This isn’t purely a buff. If we gave you that impression, that’s on us and I apologize. There wasn’t room to give Pathfinder a change that would be a buff in all contexts. He’s just too powerful,” Respawn designer Daniel Klein told players on Reddit. Instead, the Apex Legends dev teams are looking towards a new rework to hopefully fit Pathfinder players’ needs. They are being conservative though, in case they make him a bit too powerful. “I’ve got follow-up changes already in playtesting. Because Path is so very powerful I wanted to be extremely conservative in my first swing at this and see how it affects his power on live.” Klein also encouraged Pathfinder players to experiment with their grapples. “I really hope that players will experiment a little bit with short distance grapples that actually help in combat. I understand that’s not the exciting thing you wanna do when you play Pathfinder though.”

  • Respawn explains reason for silence between Apex Legends updates – Dexerto

Respawn explains reason for silence between Apex Legends updates EAFollowing much silence in the weeks since release and many questions from the community, an Apex Legends developer has explained why Respawn won’t go into details about the new features coming into the game. Since Apex Legends’ launch back in February, it hasn’t received a whole lot in terms of updates despite promising to provide regular updates to the game. That doesn’t mean the developers have been entirely away from the game as they have been constantly behind the scenes banning players and there have been some updates that have come, most notably the one that introduced the Season 1 Battle Pass. Respawn gives insight on why they don’t make promises for Apex Legends Overall, however, there’s been plenty of silence from Respawn, which caused fans to begin wondering why the development team doesn’t go into any detail with what is coming to the game. In an effort to bring clarity to the situation, sn Apex Legends developer, Brent Mcleod, who goes by Scriptacus on Reddit posted a lengthy comment explaining why the team doesn’t go into much detail saying what they are working on. “As to why I don’t give specific answers about unannounced or requested features (like alternate modes); far too often it’s unwise to do so,” he wrote on Reddit. “Just mentioning this kind of stuff gets taken as a promise. The timeline starts the moment it’s mentioned and everyone has a different expectation of what’s a reasonable timeline.” Gaming websites could actually hurt developers While he does believe fans will create their own timelines, he adds on that gaming publications can also help create a negative narrative. “If I were to say ‘Yes, feature X will come to the game someday’ it would likely get picked up by blogs and gaming news sites, posted as ‘Respawn says X is coming to Apex,’ and depending on how those articles are written, they’re going to set expectations incorrectly for a lot of people.” While the response should certainly help calm the fears of many Apex Legends players, there will no doubt be plenty of players who are still looking for new content and updates in the weeks to come.

  • Respawn hit back at Apex Legends ‘Save Titanfall’ hack: “They achieved nothing” – Dexerto

Respawn hit back at Apex Legends ‘Save Titanfall’ hack: “They achieved nothing” Respawn EntertainmentRespawn slammed the Apex Legends hacker who’s taken over the battle royale to raise awareness for the ‘Save Titanfall Campaign’ as player and dev frustrations continue to mount. Respawn Director of Communications, Ryan K. Rigney, explained more about where the company was at with the DDoS issues, as well as the anti-cheat efforts in their games – both of which are of high interest to devs and players, alike. The campaign to ‘Save Titanfall’ and its ‘Operation Red Tape’ is an awareness effort for the developers at Respawn to pay attention to the big problems that are plaguing the classic FPS titles. Organizers go as far as to suggest that EA and Respawn are “actively ignoring this subject,” and leaving these games for sale in their current state while allegedly ignoring customer complaints is an “act of fraud.” The person who hacked Apex Legends also tried to raise awareness on the cause. Unfortunately, awareness isn’t the issue, Rigney said. “Nobody wants to hear devs complain when DDoS attacks are still a problem we haven’t solved,” Rigney said. “The problem’s not awareness. It’s that DDoSing in particular is just a hard problem to solve. Really hard.” Respawn have addressed the Titanfall DDoS issue as recently as June 10. While efforts have been slow for players’ liking, Rigney says the studio has been persistent in its resolve. “The team has never stopped working on DDoS solutions, and anti-cheat is just a never-ending war of whack-a-mole,” he said. “On the DDoS front, we WILL solve this. When we do, I promise you it won’t be because hackers ‘made us aware’ by ruining a holiday. ” https://twitter.com/RKRigney/status/1412444476828749836 The hack on Apex on Sunday, July 4 kept a lot of players from accessing the battle royale and made Respawn turn the lights back on to fix the new issue during the holiday. Even with people adamant about fixing Titanfall, the attack on Apex didn’t serve any particular purpose since Respawn were already on the case. “They achieved nothing of value,” Rigney said of the Apex Legends hack.

  • Apex Legends still plagued with progression & inventory bugs – Dexerto

Apex Legends still plagued with progression & inventory bugs Electronic ArtsApex Legends is experiencing its second wave of bugs impacting player inventories and progression in less than a month. How is Respawn not able to fix these issues? Apex Legends players have had to deal with two massive bugs that have impacted their cosmetic inventories, account level, and Battle Pass progression in about a month. The first instance was after the April 2 update, which saw players lose levels, the Battle Pass they purchased at the start of the season, and Heirlooms. This same issue has reoccurred as of April 16, with players reporting lost Battle Pass progression and missing items from their inventories. While this might not be a game-breaking bug impacting matches or gameplay, it does not inspire player confidence in the developer. And while many video game makers and companies are dealing with layoffs, Respawn included, not many other live-service games are dealing with bugs or other issues at the scale of Apex Legends. That does not mean those at the company are not working hard to fix these problems as they crop up, or find the source issue and shut it down. I have no doubt they are. The developers have also been communicative about their awareness of the issues and when they are fixed. But, following a high-profile cyber attack on some of the game’s biggest personalities during an esports tournament, Respawn is in the spotlight. And, the developer continues to fumble what goodwill it has with its community as these bugs continue to be an issue. Whether it is an issue of layoffs, lacking the personnel necessary to find these problems before they ship, or some sneaky line of code, it doesn’t matter. If these problems persist, Apex might see an exodus of players who would rather spend their money on a game where their cosmetics are available after purchasing them and won’t fear the possibility of a massive hack. Apex Legends players always seem to have something to complain about, from controller configurations to Ranked woes; however, this latest issue is more tangible and will become more annoying if it rears its head again. Respawn can give out all the free Apex Packs it wants to get players back on its side, but the second a player loses a rare Heirloom that took hours of grinding and open packs to get, they will lose them again.

  • Respawn responds to Apex Legends’ input lag making game “unplayable” – Dexerto

Respawn responds to Apex Legends’ input lag making game “unplayable” Respawn EntertainmentRespawn are working on input lag in Apex Legends affecting certain Xbox players, who say it’s been a recurring problem in the last few weeks. It seems like players have been feeling the lag since the Awakening Collection Event update that kicked off on June 21. Since then, they’ve been flagging the studio about the problem through channels on Reddit, Twitter and the like. As expected, the devs are working to fix the Apex input issues but didn’t have much of a timeline to share – to the dismay of some people who’ve been reporting bad cases of lag. “We’re still working on a fix for this one. Thank you for your patience here,” they said. Although it wasn’t what people wanted to hear at the time, the devs mostly followed the script of how they handle turnaround for these bugs. We’re still working on a fix for this one. Thank you for your patience here. — Apex Legends (@PlayApex) June 22, 2022 Shortly after the Season 12 update, players on numerous platforms reported multiple instances of lag on Olympus. Respawn similarly addressed the issue a day later before coming out with a fix not long before. This time around, the input lag is mainly affecting Xbox players. There are clips showing consistent button presses taking longer than ideal to register on the game’s end. Though players have been on stand-by for a fix, some are getting antsy since they’ve also been contending with Game Chat issues since the Apex next-gen update in late March. “Last night it was unplayable, just trying to see if the issue has been fixed or at least acknowledged yet?” one user said. “Haven’t seen any updates in the pinned post so figured I’d just ask here. “I can deal with game chat not working since the next gen update on next gen consoles, but if this input delay doesn’t get resolved, it’s quite literally no fun and unplayable at that point.” We’ll have to wait to hear from the studio as the Apex community sits tight until Respawn can nail down a meaningful fix for the input lags.

  • Apex Legends dev explains why they’re removing Kings Canyon in Season 3 – Dexerto

Apex Legends dev explains why they’re removing Kings Canyon in Season 3 With the imminent launch of Apex Legends Season 3, players are looking forward to the addition of a brand new map, World’s Edge – but the fate of the classic Kings Canyon has already been decided, at least temporarily. Kings Canyon was the first and, until Season 3, only map you could play in Apex since its launch in February, and although it’s undergone numerous changes in that time, players will still hopeful for a brand new location. This new season finally delivers on that, taking the legends not only to a new map, but an entirely new planet, with the arena now named ‘World’s Edge’. So, what will become of Kings Canyon? Well, at least for the start of the new season, the classic map will no longer be in rotation at all. Developer Drew McCoy explained the reasoning for this decision in an interview with Stevivor, likening the new map to the addition of a new legend. “In Season 1 when Octane launched, he was the brand-new thing and you would see a lot of people select Octane as the first player on their team. Then the other two would disconnect because they also wanted to play as the new character,” Drew explained, “We think the same type of thing is going to happen with multiple maps.” “What we don’t want is for someone to get in on October 1 and be like, ‘Oh, it put me on Kings Canyon, I’m going to back out.’ You’re going to end up with a bunch of half dead games,” Drew continued. It doesn’t mean that Kings Canyon is gone forever though, as McCoy states, “at launch it’s going to be World’s Edge only, and then based on feedback from players, and the data we can get, we have a lot of different levers we can pull to see what we can do about reintroducing Kings Canyon.” Season 3 of Apex Legends starts on October 1, when players will finally be able to jump into the action on World’s Edge, which features a mix of Lava and Ice locations. Kings Canyon may be a thing of the past for now, but players will surely grow wistful for the old map and hope that it makes a return perhaps later in the season.

  • Respawn introduce circle damage changes in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Respawn introduce circle damage changes in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentDevelopers Respawn Entertainment have made some major changes to the circle damage in Apex Legends‘ new Apex Elite Queue. On June 10, Respawn published a post on Reddit to outline a change to how much damage the circle inflicts in the new Apex Elite Queue, and those changes are now live. Those caught in the first Circle will now experience 15% damage per tick, 20% damage per tick in the second circle, and 25% damage per tick in the remaining circle. The developers revealed that their intentions behind this adjustment was to try and stop players from camping outside of the circle, to try and finish with a top-five placement in the Elite Queue. These changes are already live on all platforms, but affect the Elite Queue only. The damage stats for the circle in the regular playlist remain the same. 500New Apex Legends circle damage stats First circle now does 7% damage per tick [previously this was 15%]. – Second circle does 15% damage per tick – Third circle does 20% damage per tick – Remaining circles do 25% damage per tick. – In addition to going over the damage adjustments, Respawn also announced another server patch will be going live, with patch notes released on Tuesday, June 11. The new updated addresses some of the bugs and glitches that have recently appeared in the game, such as a issue where Caustic’s Nox Gas Traps would damage players through walls. Respawn’s June 12 Reddit post can be read in its entirety below, which included new patch notes: Hey all, EDIT: Players that don’t have the patch trying to join those that do may result in game crash. If you are experiencing crashes while trying to join a friend, this should be resolved in the next few hours as the patch is propagated. Please make sure that you have restarted and updated the client as you’ll get stuck in matchmaking if you try to play without the update. We’ve got a patch rolling out to all platforms this morning with some fixes. Before the end of the week we’ll also provide an update on the Known Issues we talked about last week. Notes below for the fixes that are in this one. [you’ll need to download the update]. 6.11.2019 PATCH NOTES EDIT: this patch also fixed the bug with healing items not functioning when using the keybinds for them. – The following config commands are now enabled: fps_max – mat_letterbox_aspect_goal – mat_letterbox_aspect_threshold – – Fixed issue with players not being rewarded with Loss Forgiveness after their teammate left during an Apex Elite match. Also made improvements so that Loss Forgiveness works more consistently in other cases where it wasn’t working correctly. – – Fixed bug where Caustic’s Nox Gas Traps would damage players through walls. – Fixed exploit where you could repeatedly place Caustic’s Nox Gas Traps with no cooldown. – [PS4 Only] Fixed bug with in-game reward message not displaying the right image for Playstation Plus subscribers [previously this was showing an orange and purple checker image instead of the right asset]. – Fixed issue with “nerfed” skydiving from a Jump Tower. – Resolved a number of localization issues for Xbox and PS4. – Fixed issues with items sorting incorrectly when looting a deathbox. – Fixed issues related to heavily decreased accuracy when ADS and sliding. – Fixed audio bug related to Octane’s Jump Pad. – Fixed a number of game logic script errors. – What is the Apex Elite Queue? The Apex Elite Queue is a new playlist introduced in Apex Legends as part of the currently ongoing Legendary Hunt limited time event. The Queue is only available to players to manage to finish in the top-five of any regular match, meaning that matches played in this special playlist will feature a higher level of competition. Players who finish in the top-five of regular matches are not required to load into the new playlist, as they can continue to play in the default mode if they don’t want to face tougher opponents. However, those who do qualify for the Queue and do indeed choose to play in it are then able to try and unlock special cosmetic items available exclusively via that playlist: Rare Wolfpack G7 Scout weapon skin – Finish in the Top 5 in an Apex Elite match. – Epic Master of the Hunt Bloodhound Legend skin – Finish in the Top 5 in any queue five times (consecutive or nonconsecutive). – Legendary Tamed Beast Triple Take weapon skin – Win twice in any queue (consecutive or nonconsecutive). – Last updated at 8:00am (EST) on June 14, 2019.

  • Respawn announce Apex Legends PC update for June 20 – Patch notes – Dexerto

Respawn announce Apex Legends PC update for June 20 – Patch notes Respawn Entertainment has announced that an Apex Legends client patch will be dropping on June 20, exclusively for PC players. Just a day after Respawn teased a possible Flyer event headed to Apex Legends, the company announced that a PC-only client patch is headed to the PC version of the game very soon. The update is just some behind-the-scenes server stuff, focusing on data centers and server-based errors, so if you’re hoping it’ll be some exclusive dragon content for PC, you’ll be sorely disappointed. Though this patch isn’t the most interesting, it will deliver some improvements PC players have been asking for for a while. The data center list is being revamped to make it easier for people to navigate through when selecting a server, and will be sorted by ping by default. Game clients will also now be sending user inputs to the server at a higher rate. Some players have encountered an error where they’ve been booted back to the main lobby for no reason, under the error code ‘leaf.’ The patch won’t outright fix this issue, though measures to find out what’s causing the bug will be added. The patch is only coming to PC for now as a test to see how it runs, but will hopefully be released for all systems in the near future. Full June 20 patch notes You can read the complete patch notes for June 20 below. Datacenter improvements to make the list easier to understand and use: List will be sorted by ping by default. – The selected data center will be highlighted in orange. – Focused/hovered data centers will still be highlighted in grey. – – Right clicking a data center will no longer make it look selected Right click wouldn’t actually select the data center but would still highlight the selection which could be confusing. – – Clients will now send user input to the server at a higher rate. – Code: Leaf error There is still some work to do on our end to nail down what is causing this error. In this patch we’re adding more telemetry to help us identify specifically how this error is being caused. You may start to get a code:net error instead of code:leaf. That is intended and part of the telemetry we added. We’ll be continuing to investigate this issue and it remains a priority. – –

  • Respawn announce $500,000 Apex Legends preseason invitational tournament – Dexerto

Respawn announce $500,000 Apex Legends preseason invitational tournament Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment have announced that a they will be hosting a $500,000 preseason invitational tournament for Apex Legends in September, ahead of the Season 3 launch. The event will feature 80 of the world’s best Apex Legends teams, who will make the trip to Kraków, Poland for the event on September 13-15. Teams will play in a double-elimination bracket, with the hopes of grabbing their share of the half-a-million prize pool. It is Respawn’s first major offline esports event for Apex Legends, following the success of smaller scale invitational tournaments such as the Twitch Rivals events. How to play in Apex Legends preseason invitational If you want to have a chance at competing for the massive prize pool, hopeful teams will need to apply by emailing ApexLegendsPreseason@ea.com and including their Origin ID and associated email address. EA and Respawn will then select the invitees for the tournament, but the criteria for selection is unclear currently. The event will also be open to spectators who want to make the trip to Krakow to see the tournament go down. Todd Sitrin, SVP and GM of the EA Competitive Gaming Division explained that they have “a vision to make stars of all our players as we build an entertainment spectacle that captivates millions of players and spectators. “Today we officially expand EA Competitive Gaming through the addition of Apex Legends, owner of one of the biggest game launches in history” Sitrin continues, “The Apex Legends Preseason Invitational is the key next step in our esports journey.” The event will presumably also act as build-up to the third season in the popular battle royale, which expected to bring a scary theme – in time for Halloween. Apex Legends Preseason Invitational rules The tournament will be played on PC, and you must be over 16 to take part. Competitors from Japan must be 17, and competitors from Germany, Russia or South Korea must be 18 years old. Any players under the age of 18 must have a guardian accompany them to the event. The full rules and eligibility guidelines for the Preseason Invitational can be found here. Each team’s 3 man roster must be confirmed by 11:59:59 PM PT on September 2, 2019, when rosters will be locked.

  • Respawn adjusts Apex Legends Season 7 Battle Pass after player backlash – Dexerto

Respawn adjusts Apex Legends Season 7 Battle Pass after player backlash RespawnApex Legends Season 7 has been relatively well received, except for the “grindy” Battle Pass. Respawn have taken notice, and are vastly reducing how much experience it takes to level up. The Apex Legends Season 7 Battle Pass has been a cause for concern within the community. The progression system has been labeled as excessively “grindy,” with Respawn making it incredibly difficult to just hit Level 2, let alone possibly Level 100. However, after less than 24 hours of the Ascension update being live, Respawn have dialled down the battle pass grind. We’ve seen a lot of feedback about Battle Pass progression being too slow. So today we’ll ship the following change: 🔸XP required per Star: 10,000 > 5,000 Also, starting next week, your Weekly Challenges will take much less time to complete. — Apex Legends (@PlayApex) November 6, 2020 “We’ve seen a lot of feedback about Battle Pass progression being too slow,” the devs told players on Twitter on November 5. Respawn has halved the XP required to get a star from 10,000 XP to 5,000 XP. This should make one battle pass level worth around 50,000 XP rather than 100,000 XP. They’re also reducing the amount of time it should take to complete the Weekly Challenges. While they didn’t put an estimated figure on how much they’ll cut the grind, it should be a substantial amount given the backlash. “Two goals for the Battle Pass in Season 7 were [to] make it engaging for the entire length of the season [and] encourage you to try out new Legends and playstyles. We think we missed the mark with the first iteration, so hopefully these changes help out,” the devs added. The changes should apply soon, with players noticing they might have leveled up a bit further than they were previously with the star XP changes. With players stating the grind this season was up to four times as hard as previous seasons, these changes should at least bring them more in line with previous expectations. However, it will still be somewhat more difficult to cap out your battle pass regardless. These changes might not be the final iteration of what Respawn implement either. It’s a wait-and-see process over the next few days and weeks as players dig into the new content and push their battle pass all the way to level 100. Players are still unhappy with the changes Despite Respawn Entertainment’s best efforts to address the battle pass controversy, it seems that the amendments haven’t appeased everyone. One of the Apex Legend‘s most popular, trending sub-Reddit’s is currently full of unhappiness towards the changes. A user named Xzanos had addressed the issues and what needed changing, even prophesizing any potential changes. The changes made were extremely similar to Xzanos’ comments and people are not happy about it. Xzanos had originally said: ” What respawn is doing is a negotiation tactic that asks too much of the other party expecting backlash. Then you reel in the offer appearing “generous” and put it to a still favorable state for you. This is likely what will happen with this battlepass. Respawn will change the system to be not QUITE so bad but still terrible. Before this if I saw that some of these challenges had doubled id be fucking pissed but now that they’ve tripled or more? I’d welcome “just” double. Not to mention that they’ll likely cut the costs to get a star via xp to 5k which is still egregious but when it isn’t 10k it’s welcomed with open arms. Don’t take whatever half measure of a fix they have cooked up. “ Not long after this statement, Respawn tweeted the aforementioned changes to the battle pass. This caused dismay, particularly with Xzanos who addressed the statement: “Goddamnit Respawn I call out your bulls**t and then you do it right in front of us. This is ridiculously disrespectful.” It seems likely that Respawn’s changes did reflect the comments made by Xzanos, and they still didn’t address the issue as a whole. Upon this realization, the subreddit offered some interesting comments regarding Respawn’s decision. One user – Bajeer – commented on the changes with some unfavourable words, he said: “It was so obvious this is what was going to happen too. They’re ignoring the real problem and it seems intentional. Dailies are the biggest problem. Respawn has made them take way longer and they are way more important to leveling now. If you don’t log on and spend a couple of hours every single day doing your dailies you won’t complete this pass without a ton of grinding or buying levels. The quick “fix” they gave us still leaves a massive grind and ignores the dailies. Until they do something to change dailies my opinion of this battle pass won’t change. It’s horrible and I won’t buy the next one.” It will be interesting to see how Respawn – and EA – handle these latest reactions. Will they end up making further changes? Or risking alienating their player base?

  • Respawn address speculation about Titans coming to Apex Legends – Dexerto

Respawn address speculation about Titans coming to Apex Legends Respawn has finally shed some light on the long-time speculation of the Titans from Titanfall being incorporated into Apex Legends. Details on Apex Legends Season 2 were recently announced during the EA Play event at E3 2019, giving players an insight into what’s coming to the game in the near future. A new Legend is on the way, as well as a new weapon, an updated Battle Pass, and more. The upcoming season will really shake up the game in ways never been seen before. Are Titans coming to Apex? In an interview with Game Informer, Respawn’s executive producer Drew McCoy talked about the long-time speculation of more Titanfall content being incorporated into Apex Legends – Titans specifically. “We prototyped it for like nine months during development, and we couldn’t get it to work well,” Drew revealed. “Titans were created back in the day as a power item. As a sense of, ‘I am now a badass, don’t mess with me.’ That fantasy fulfillment is destroyed immediately in battle royale once you’ve balanced them to a point where they don’t ruin battle royale.” He then went onto explain that the development team simply couldn’t put a character of that scope and size into the game because of the complexity accompanying its design, saying, “We could never pull enough levers – how you get it, how strong it is, how fast it is, how big it is, what kind of weapons it has, when do you have it – all that kind of stuff. “So I think for now, Titans are just not a thing. We’re no longer considering it.” he ended. It’s sad that Apex will never see Titans in the game, but at least there’s a good reason behind the decision. Will Apex be getting cross-play? In the same interview, the team also talked about the possibility of cross-play coming to the game. Players have been wanting to team up with their friends across different platforms for a while now, so the addition would be a welcome one. Battle royale rival Fortnite offers cross-play, so it would certainly help boost the game’s popularity if Respawn were to add it to Apex. Balancing issues were also addressed, and the developers want to make every character as fair as possible in the new season. “For Season 2 we will have another set of balance changes that will…. we always strive to make our characters pretty even choices. So it’s sort of pick who you want to play who fits your style.”

  • Respawn address ‘leaving penalty’ being accidentally enabled in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Respawn address ‘leaving penalty’ being accidentally enabled in Apex Legends Apex Legends players were surprised with an unannounced ‘leaving penalty’ going live on April 3, and Respawn Entertainment have now addressed the situation. What is a leaving penalty? A leaving penalty is exactly what it names suggests – a penalty handed to players who leave matches prematurely. The premature aspect of leaving is determined by the respective game that the penalty exists in, meaning some games might have a stricter stance against leaving than others. Read More: New skins for unreleased L-Star weapon leaked following Apex Legends account reset issues – Usually, these penalties come in the form of a certain amount time that players are not allowing to load back into a match after the penalty has been assigned. How does the leaving penalty in Apex Legends work? On April 3, for a brief amount of time, the leaving penalty was enabled in-game, despite the fact that there had been no formal announcement from Respawn Entertainment. In that time, players learned that for every three matches they left prematurely, they were handed a five minute penalty during which they could not queue up for another match. In the case of Apex Legends, it turned out that “leaving matches early” referred to leaving when teammates could still respawn you. This meant that anyone who left after being fully eliminated but before their Banner card expired were subject to getting penalized. Respawn address leaving penalty in Apex Legends Shortly after the leaving penalty was disabled in-game, Respawn posted a message on Reddit clarifying the situation and settling down the confusion that had been swirling around the community. As most had suspected by that point, Respawn admitted that the leaving penalty was enabled accidentally, as it had not been their “intention or plan to have it go live with the update that went out today,” referring to the v1.1 patch that went live earlier on April 3. They also revealed that the leaving penalty is still in its testing phase and that there is no ETA for when it will go live in-game, as there is the chance that it may not even be added. Obviously this unexpected development was a major surprise on a day that had already been a very busy one for the developers at Respawn entertainment. It will definitely be worth keeping an eye on this leaving penalty, since its addition would drastically change how the game is played.

Apex Legends had one of the quickest rises in the history in gaming history as they amounted a player base of over 50 million players within their first month of being released to the public. • Respawn address frustrating Apex Legends “oversight” with Big Maude shop – Dexerto

Respawn address frustrating Apex Legends “oversight” with Big Maude shop Respawn EntertainmentRespawn have confirmed they’re looking into Big Maude’s Vend-it Machines after Apex Legends players uncovered a frustrating omission from the World’s Edge shop that can sometimes leave them empty-handed. Big Maude is the latest point of interest (POI) to enter the game thanks to Rampart’s Town Takeover, added early in Season 10. Players can use the ‘Vend-it Machines’ located inside of it to exchange Crafting Materials for fully-kitted weapons, similar to normal Replicators. Unlike the Replicators, however, weapons from Vend-it Machines can be susceptible to getting stolen by a nearby teammate. If that were to happen, then it would leave the player who spent 100 Crafted Materials with nothing but a troll as a teammate. Respawn’s Live Technical Designer, who goes by ‘exgeniar,’ said this might’ve been an “oversight” and is working to patch out the problem. Apex Legends Big Maude fix A video from user ‘dstay10’ showed the problem with Big Maude’s shop after they pumped their Crafting Materials to get the fully-modded R-99. As soon as it appeared, their teammate was snooping behind them and managed to claim the prized loot before they could. Read more: Apex Legends crossplay guide – “The replicator delay should work at Big Maude too,” they said. This invited a ton of responses from people who experienced the same problem. Shortly after, exgeniar chimed in to reassure the Apex community that the clip shouldn’t be an intended interaction and should be looked into soon. “This feels like an oversight, I’ll bring it up to the design team,” exgeniar said. If Respawn applies the same protections that the Replicators have to Big Maude, then it should give players some ease of mind to investing in its wares. • Apex Legends dev responds to possibility of team deathmatch mode – Dexerto

Apex Legends dev responds to possibility of team deathmatch mode RespawnApex Legends is just a battle royale for now, but Respawn wants to make it so much more. As leaks have sprung up about a potential Team Deathmatch (TDM) mode, the devs have kept their lips sealed, but are indicating a big expansion soon. While Respawn has worked on keeping Apex Legends fresh with a number of limited-time game modes, all of them center around one thing — the battle royale genre. The loot pools or the size of squads may change, but the core gameplay remains the same. However, with Apex entering its third year on the market, Respawn are looking at making it so much more. Rumblings of expansion into other FPS genres within Apex Legends have been going for a while now, and in Season 8, there’s more validity now than ever before. Respawn: “”Later this year, we’ll launch new ways to play #ApexLegends that take us beyond battle royale.”” pic.twitter.com/LTbmY0CHKV — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) February 2, 2021 Respawn have said they wan to expand beyond battle royale, and leaks have been everywhere. A TDM-style mode has been the first one on players’ lips after data miners discovered smaller “arenas” that look perfect for the mode. Now, Respawn is coming out with big hints about Apex’s future. While they haven’t confirmed the exact modes coming out soon — with developers avoiding saying “TDM” when asked by players — they are looking to make Apex Legends more than just a battle royale. “We are always looking at ways to expand the play spaces of our Legends beyond Battle Royale,” developer Brian Vidovic told players on Reddit. “All I’ll say is that we have a lot of really cool prototypes in the works.” It comes after a number of different game modes, including that TDM-style Arenas one, were leaked ahead of the Season 8 update. That leak contained references to Locked and Loaded, which is coming to Apex Legends as an LTM during the anniversary event. With the pieces coming together, it’s possible that a TDM-style mode could be planned for Season 9. Either way, Apex Legends is about to become a lot more than a battle royale in 2021.

  • Respawn address Apex Legends hit registration issues after Season One update – Dexerto

Respawn address Apex Legends hit registration issues after Season One update Respawn EntertainmentThe major Apex Legends update that introduced Season One seems to have had a negative effect on the game’s hit registration. The “Wild Frontier” patch was the biggest update to Apex Legends so far, introducing the Season One Battle Pass and a brand-new Legend, Octane. Unfortunately, since the update arrived, players have begun to notice that their shots aren’t always landing as they should be. Former Overwatch League pro and current solo kill world record-holder Lucas ‘Mendo’ Håkansson was quick to identify the issues in the wake of the Season One launch, stating that hit registration felt “insanely off” and putting the problem down to the increased server load from people jumping in to try out the new season. Mendo wasn’t the only player to notice the issues, however. Apex player u/cyberzak was able to capture an instance in which it seems clear that their shots with the Longbow connected with the target, in one instance even showing sparks as the bullet connected with the enemy Pathfinder, but no damage registered. Multiple other commenters have also reported similar issues with hit registration in the days after the Season One update. While these are anecdotal issues and could theoretically be problems on the players’ end rather than with the game itself, the number of people suddenly complaining of poor hit registration after the major update makes it seem likely that there is indeed an issue on Apex’s side. Fortunately, it seems like Respawn are already exploring the cause of the problems. Community manager Jay ‘Jayfresh’ Frechette has confirmed that the development team are “looking into it”. How long it might take to identify and address the cause of the hit registration issues remains to be seen, but players can at least be sure that Respawn are in fact working on a fix.

  • Respawn address annoying Apex Legends Fight Night ring glitch in January 7 update – Dexerto

Respawn address annoying Apex Legends Fight Night ring glitch in January 7 update Respawn/EARespawn Entertainment have rolled out a fix for the Apex Legends bug that was allowing players to take weapons into the Pathfinder Town Takeover boxing ring. The long-awaited Fight Night collection event finally went live in Apex Legends on January 5, bringing plenty of new cosmetics, challenges, and the Pathfinder boxing arena as the new Town Takeover. The Pathfinder-themed location has been pretty popular with fans, seeing as you’re not allowed to use weapons, and can only use melee attacks on enemies – even though there is plenty of loot to grab inside the ring. Some players had managed to ruin the fun a little by finding ways to use weapons inside the ring but Respawn have quickly moved to get rid of the bug and get fights back to being melee only. Late in the day on January 7, the devs took to Twitter to inform fans about a backend fix – otherwise known as a hotfix – was being rolled out to address the glitches. “We’ve deployed a backend fix for several Pathfinder Town Takeover related issues, including an exploit that allowed players to use their guns while inside the Fight Night Ring, as well as several other errors,” they tweeted, also telling fans that it’s all about clean fights from here on out. As it’s a hotfix, you don’t have to download some crazy sized update for Apex. Just load the game up as normal, and everything will have changed on Respawn’s end. We’ve deployed a backend fix for several Pathfinder Town Takeover related issues, including an exploit that allowed players to use their guns while inside the Fight Night Ring, as well as several other errors. We wanna see clean fights only from here on out. 😉🥊 — Apex Legends (@PlayApex) January 8, 2021 While that problem has been rooted out, for now at least, the game devs are looking into some other annoying problems as well – including an issue with Gibraltar’s ultimate ruining gunfire sounds. These problems have been labeled as being “investigated” on Respawn’s public Trello board – where you can also report any new problems you might have run into, as well. However, it’s unknown when they’ll be straightened out.

  • Real-life Apex Legends loot tick is unbelievably realistic – Dexerto

Real-life Apex Legends loot tick is unbelievably realistic YouTube: The3DPrintSpaceApex Legends loot ticks are not only adorable, but contain some of the game’s best goodies. In an attempt to get lucky, a designer used a 3D printer to create a real-life walking loot tick. Not only do Apex Legends’ adorable little loot ticks contain some of the best items in the game, they’ve become a fan favorite feature because they’re just that cute. Associated with everything from random skin drops to the highly coveted heirlooms, the tiny triangles appear sporadically across the in-game universe, identified by the gentle ticking noise that accompanies them. Transporting the little bundles of joy out of the Apex Games and into our real world, designer Graham Watson has built his own loot tick that lights up, ticks away, and can even walk by itself! Apex Legends fan creates real-life loot tick In a YouTube video from September 28, 3D printer and engineer Graham Watson shows off his latest creation: a walking loot tick with all of the hallmarks of the virtual version. Happily stomping away, the title little creature shuffles into frame with a little wiggle. Ready to drop some sought-after loot, the robot blinks purple before the video cuts to an up-close and personal view of the tick. Watson notes that this is his “first time trying to design, program, and build robotics,” calling it a “huge challenge.” Noting that he’s “happy with how it came out,” players are absolutely loving it too. Even the official Apex Legends account gave it some love. Unfortunately we won’t be able to buy one of these for ourselves – Watson seems pretty attached to his adorable little companion – however we can watch his 3D printing journey on his YouTube channel. He’s created everything from a miniature jump pad wireless charger, to a Wingman with functioning reload mechanics. So while we wait with bated breath for more of these (not so) little robots to hit the market, we’ll have to scrounge for them in-game.

  • “Rat” Pathfinder spot on World’s Edge is perfect for Apex Legends ambushes – Dexerto

“Rat” Pathfinder spot on World’s Edge is perfect for Apex Legends ambushes Respawn EntertainmentA new sneaky spot for Pathfinder to hide in Apex Legends has been discovered on World’s Edge, and it’s safe to say that enemies will have no idea of the ambush waiting for them when you’re up there. Every Apex player worth their salt should know most of the game’s maps inside and out by this point. If you don’t have Olympus memorized yet we’ll let it slide since it’s a newer map, for now, but map knowledge is one of the most important things players need to stay on top of. But, one spot even the most hardened veterans of the Apex games might not be aware of has been discovered, and it’s definitely one to keep in mind the next time you drop in for a match on World’s Edge. Redditor ‘the-tortalian’ is the one we have to thank for bringing this hiding place, which they lovingly refer to as a “rat” spot, to our attention, and even sharing a video of how to get up there with Pathfinder. Located in the Sorting Room on World’s Edge, there is a large yellow pipe going from floor to ceiling in the middle of the room. There’s a slight bend at the top of the pipe, which makes it possible to hang out indefinitely (or until the ring closes) once you get up there. If you’re rolling Pathfinder, it’s as easy as aiming your grapple at the top of the tube, and riding it for as long as you can. If you pull it off correctly, you should be sitting pretty where no enemy will ever think to look. Now, just because Path is the legend used in this example, there’s nothing to say he’s the only one that could theoretically make it up there. Octane’s Jump Pad certainly has the potential to work, and Horizon’s Gravity Lift also comes to mind. If you do manage to pull it off and get to this spot with either Octane, Horizon, or any other legend, drop us a clip @TitanfallBlog on Twitter. Bonus points if you manage to actually kill another player or squad while up there too!

  • Rarest Apex Legends skins: Legendary character skins no one uses – Dexerto

Rarest Apex Legends skins: Legendary character skins no one uses Respawn EntertainmentEveryone wants to have one of the best and most elusive skins on their character in Apex Legends, but which skins are actually the rarest in-game? These ten skins are statistically the least worn legendary skins in Apex. Although some skins have a reputation for being ‘OG’ or ‘rare’, Respawn is bringing back lots of classic skins in future events, meaning that not skins will be ‘OG’ for long. You may actually have one of the rarest skins in your inventory already, and not even realize it. These skins are the rarest by pick rate in Apex Legends right now, according to usage stats from Apex Status. This doesn’t mean they are the rarest in players’ inventory, but they are the least used skins. Top 10 rarest Apex legendary skins 10. Stay Frosty – 0.006% Bangalore’s Stay Frosty comes in at number 10 with a very low use rate of only 0.006%. Released in the first Holo-Day Bash event, this skin came back in 2020 too. 9. Crystalline Perfection – 0.005% Loba’s Crystalline Perfection is not a popular pick at all. It was released with the Holo-Day Bash 2020 event, but Loba players don’t love this skin. 8. Dark Cloud – 0.005% This classic Caustic Skin hasn’t been available since May 2019. Any Caustic mains with this equipped are guaranteed to be OGs. 7. The Trophy Hunter – 0.005% An extremely rare Caustic skin, The Trophy Hunter hasn’t been available since April 2019. It is a recolor of Caustic’s ‘Blackheart.’ 6. Shell-Shocked – 0.005% Gibraltar’s 2nd-rarest Legendary, Shell-Shocked was last available in May 2020. 5. Hack Frost – 0.003% The absolute rarest Legendary skin that you’ll very scarcely see worn in-game is Crypto’s Hack Frost. This skin has been available in both Holo-Day Bash events, so we might see it again this year. That’s the top ten rarest skins (in terms of use) in Apex Legends right now – but this list could change if these skins are re-released in-game, so we’ll keep you up to date.

  • Rarely used Apex Legends tech is a perfect workaround for Rampage charges – Dexerto

Rarely used Apex Legends tech is a perfect workaround for Rampage charges Carol Sung / Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have found a workaround that’s perfect for charging the Rampage LMG by using a rarely used technique that’s long been in the game. People can ‘rev up’ the Rampage by expending a Thermite grenade. This takes the already-popular gun to another level but the charging process can be a bit finicky. Though the Rampage doesn’t take too long to charge, players can get quite annoyed when the process gets accidentally canceled for any minor movement. To rid themselves of the nuisance, some Apex fans are thinking of trying out a simple method to apply the buff. “You can charge a Rampage while hanging on a ledge apparently,” one user found. Though not a common thing to see in the fast-paced battle royale, Apex Legends players can actually stay put while grabbing the top of a wall. It’s in this state that players found that they could activate the Rampage’s charge, even though they aren’t technically wielding the gun. “Oh that’s good because you cant f**king charge it in other cases,” another person said in response to the clip. Read more: Apex Legends’ most-hated hacker is back – As Respawn contend with the bigger bugs that impact the Rampage, this is one that players wouldn’t mind staying for a bit longer. How to hang on a ledge in Apex Legends It’s just not normal to see Apex Legends players hanging for any extended amount of time so it makes sense if some people need a refresher on how to do it. To hang off a ledge in Apex Legends, simply climb up a wall to its highest point. Just before going over the top, let go of your forward input to start hanging. It’s a technique that’s rarely seen in the battle royale but, like most movement tricks, Apex Legends players even found a handy way to make it somewhat useful.

  • Rare bug makes World’s Edge map vanish in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Rare bug makes World’s Edge map vanish in Apex Legends One of the most insane map glitches yet has been discovered on Apex Legends, sending an entire lobby plummeting directly into nothing but open water, and giving one lucky squad a very easy win. Despite frequent updates, Apex Legends still has its issues with bugs and glitches, especially with so much new content being added at an increased pace since launch. For Season 3, Respawn took the game to another level by adding in a new map, Worlds Edge, but it hasn’t been totally without its own issues – even one particularly egregious bug that just makes it disappear entirely. This bug has actually reared its head a few times, as players first started noticing it back in mid-November. As players jump out of the dropship, instead of being met with a bird’s-eye view of the terrain, they are simply staring into the abyss of the wide ocean. Competitive player eRa Anbu took the glitch to the next level though, managing to hover above sea-level in a bizarre floating state, until the rest of the lobby was wiped out, making his squad champions. Although the match started with a nearly full lobby of all 20 teams, Anbu and his teammates, lyric and ACE, were able to outlive the rest of the enemies on the non-existent map, securing the win. https://twitter.com/eRa_Anbu/status/1207238294565601283 Considering this bug has been present since sometime earlier in Season 3, and is still occurring, it may be proving difficult for Respawn to patch. Thankfully, it’s not a very frequent glitch, and you’ll be pretty unlucky to find yourself in one of these bugged matches. This is far from the only fault with the World’s Edge map though, as others have also found similar (although not quite as extreme) glitches. One very unlucky player ended up trapped inside an out-of-bounds zone after using a balloon, quickly ending their match in the most unfortunate of circumstances.

  • Is Ranked Play coming to Apex Legends? – Dexerto

Is Ranked Play coming to Apex Legends? While the release of Apex Legends has been a resounding success thus far, there’s still one feature that many players have been asking about: Ranked Play. Respawn released Apex Legends on February 4 and saw over a million unique players dive in over the first eight hours of availability. After a week, this number had risen to 25 million. Players of all breeds – both casual and competitive – have been getting their fill over the last few days, and a supposed ‘leak’ appeared to have good news for more ‘competitive’ players. Data miners found two lines of code in the Apex Legends game files, which immediately sparked rumors that a ‘ranked’ playlist was coming According to a screenshot courtesy of @StoutFN_ on Twitter, the code in question read “rankedplay_display_enabled ‘0’” and “rankeplay_voice_enabled ‘0.’” However, this leak was quickly shut down. Reddit user u/ralopd, a moderator on the official Apex Legends subreddit, explained that this game file is just leftover code from Titanfall 2. Any sort of competitive mode in Fortnite has been one of the most requested features since the battle royale mode launched in September of 2017, but it still hasn’t been added in. GamingINTEL claimed to have found more Apex Legends game files which hint at some form of ‘league’ system. This leak is highly dubious, as there is nothing to verify that they are in fact genuine game files from Apex Legends – so take this with a very large pinch of salt. Should Apex Legends get a ranked mode despite being in its infancy as compared to Fortnite, it would be another massive win for the newest entrant to the battle royale scene. Given that Apex Legends already has plans of going cross-platform sooner rather than later, it’s quite possible that a new king of battle royales is blooming right in front of our eyes. Time will tell if Apex Legends can sustain this early boom in popularity, but it’s abundantly clear that Fortnite’s place atop the market isn’t as stable as it was just a few weeks ago.

  • Rank 1 Apex Legends predator banned amid HisWattson cheating allegations – Dexerto

Rank 1 Apex Legends predator banned amid HisWattson cheating allegations Electronic ArtsThe current ranked 1 Apex Legends predator was banned after being called out by HisWattson for cheating. Early into the game’s life, an Apex Legends player, Facilitatur, made waves in the scene by reaching the top five Predators on Xbox. He and a duo, Invulnerable, would eventually be caught using hacks, however, they made a switch to PC to avoid it. Despite the ban, the duo still climbed their way to the top five on PC incredibly fast, which caught the eyes of the community. It was eventually found out that Facilitatur’s duo, Invulnerable, had been using hacks as they climbed the ranked leaderboards. Now, years after Facilitatur’s banning, he has again reached the top rank. However, the ban hammer came down again. Rank #1 Apex Predator banned again On August 23, Apex Legends content creator RealLegendJuice posted a video of Facilitatur getting banned while playing on stream. This comes after HisWattson accused the top-ranked player of cheating. “The current rank 1 Apex Predator has been caught cheating three times. Surely he’s not cheating for a fourth time, right guys?” HisWattson tweeted out sarcastically. He continued to say of Facilitatur’s suspicious behavior, “I’ve played against this guy a lot and I’ve literally never shot him in the back or caught him off guard. They just always know you’re coming.” Wattson would go on post a clip of the player as evidence, seemingly knowing an enemy was coming at him. Wattson went on to explain how important rank 1 Predator is. “Rank 1 has monetary value for streamers. He is literally siphoning ad dollars/clout/subs from people who actually deserve it. Rank 1 is life-changing for top players. I went from 10 viewers to 200 from being rank 2, then from 800 to 10,000 from being rank 1.” He continued, “Me and ProdigyAces have both had a rank 1 taken from us by a cheater and it is especially painful to see it happen to Luxford, [JamesFearless], Shooby, Zach. It discourages other aspiring pros/content creators to grind to the top when they see this stuff run rampant.” As of writing, Facilitatur has been knocked out of his number one spot anyways, dropping to fourth. Luxford, Shooby, and Zach, players HisWattson mentioned, taking his spot in the top three.

  • Random duo in Apex Legends are now getting married and go viral – Dexerto

Random duo in Apex Legends are now getting married and go viral First Spoken Gaming[jwplayer MY2aLBHW]The social power of online gaming is on fine display once again, as a YouTuber who goes by ‘First Spoken Gaming’ has told the incredible story of how he found the love of his life through playing Apex Legends. Apex is a team-oriented battle royale, that players can either run as a trio or a duo. Of course, if you don’t have a friend or two to play with, you can simply queue up with other random players. This obviously has a mixed bag of results — sometimes you’ll get a cooperative team, who work together as a unit to win the match. Other times, you’ll get rather useless teammates who would prefer to simply play for themselves. But, for two lucky players, their random matchmaking experience went far better than anyone ever could have imagined. Queueing up for a game of duos, First Spoken Gaming matched with ‘irispixels’, and says that they instantly hit it off. “[We] became best friends,” he says in his video chronicling their relationship. “I introduced her to my family, the thing is… she lived in another state, but I knew she was all I ever wanted, and that wasn’t going to stop me. The pair filmed their first time meeting in real-life, and that same day went back and played some Apex Legends together, this time right next to each other. A year later, First Spoken asked her to be his wife, and she said yes. Incredibly, the couple went viral on TikTok after he shared their story. His usual Apex Legends videos on TikTok would get a few thousand views, but the story of meeting his now-wife has already reached over half a million views, and 147,000 likes. The couple thanked Respawn and EA for making and releasing Apex Legends, as it has essentially changed both of their lives forever. This isn’t the first story of people meeting their significant others in-game either, although it’s maybe a sign that Apex Legends’ random matchmaking system isn’t always that toxic after all…

  • Random box teaser appears in Apex Legends and here’s what it could mean – Dexerto

Random box teaser appears in Apex Legends and here’s what it could mean Respawn EntertainmentA new teaser in Apex Legends has appeared on the World’s Edge map but its relations to the possible Bloodhound Town Takeover and Prowlers is anyone’s guess. Anticipation has been building for the next in-game event for the battle royale and players can feel something coming soon since the Respawn Entertainment developers have been injecting teasers across the game. So far we’ve seen construction site flags on the mountains of Sniper’s Ridge, as well as the carcass of a Prowler, a brutal beast from the larger Titanfall universe. Players are now reporting the appearance of a new crate on the map that could also be linked to the next event and there are a few ways it could tie in as a teaser. “Is this new?” Reddit user ‘’ said about the ‘Werneck’ branded box that looks to be heavily fortified. “Between Sky Hook and where the Prowler is. Maybe I just never noticed.” The name on the box, Werneck, has its place in Titantfall lore as a shipping and manufacturing company mentioned in passing throughout the series. But now with Apex getting ready for Bloodhound’s Town Takeover, one theory is that these crates could be repurposed to introduce Prowlers to the map. We know that the beasts can get pretty wild and pack a punch in groups, so it wouldn’t be surprising if Respawn chose a familiar name in shipping to get them to the Apex Games. “Oh crap, a cage for the Prowler creature!” wrote Reddit user ‘ZipToob88,’ seemingly convinced that’s what this new box is for. However, some eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that the crate resembled the ones found on the map just before the launch of Season 4, as a way of foreshadowing some of the changes to World’s Edge. “Same things appeared around Fuel Depot before season 4 started,” wrote ‘Unlucky_Sasza.’ “I think even before the construction signs. I think it`s safe to assume it’s like a construction flag.” “It’s a shipping container,” ‘240shwag’ replied. “The contractors keep their tools in there. Construction tools. Jackhammers, safety flags, levels, squares, lasers, maintenance equipment for the bigger machinery, etc.” So the box could end up being tied in more with the map changes coming for the Bloodhound Town Takeover rather than being a temporary home to Prowlers, but we’ll just have to wait and see. That’s not the end of the theories, however, as others have hazarded to guess that the crate could be carrying loot, similar to the ones that the Flyers from Season 2 would drop after being knocked down by players. The image here shows what looks to be a red access terminal on the side of the box. It’s possible there could be valuable loot in there during Bloodhound’s event that can only be accessed by a drop from defeating a wild Prowler, similar to acquiring Vault Keys from flying cargo bots. Your guess is just as good as ours. Before they became legend, young Bloodhound faced a rite of passage. Join them on the hunt and learn the harsh lessons of the Old Ways. 🪓: https://t.co/lA5U69Cl0o pic.twitter.com/WkfqC2tSsG — Apex Legends (@PlayApex) April 1, 2020 While this newest teaser has raised more questions that it’s answered, we do know that there will be some sort of reveal coming soon, after Respawn posted the image above on April 1. The tweet is a poster for a video that’s being released on April 2, which will be some sort of lore about Bloodhound, likely tied in with the upcoming Town Takeover event. As always, we will continue to bring you the latest as more information becomes available.

  • Rampart Ultimate silently buffed in Apex Legends Warriors update – Dexerto

Rampart Ultimate silently buffed in Apex Legends Warriors update Respawn EntertainmentRampart’s Mobile Minigun “Sheila” was silently buffed in the Warriors Collection event patch with no mention of the change in the official Apex Legends patch notes. With Apex Legends’ roster of characters growing every single season, it’s becoming more and more difficult for Respawn to keep every Legend balanced. As a result, even small buffs and nerfs can have a huge impact on the meta, so the whole community keeps an eye on exactly what’s being changed in all of the patch notes. Despite this, occasionally, a shadow buff or nerf will slip through the cracks accidentally, and that’s exactly what’s happened with Rampart in the Warriors Collection event update. Rampart shadow buffed in Warriors update According to reliable dataminer Shrugtal, Rampart’s Ultimate received a shadow buff in the recent update that wasn’t mentioned in the patch notes. In total, the charge-up time of Sheila was decreased by 30%, down from 1.75 seconds to 1.25 seconds. It’s worth noting that this only applies to the mobile version of the weapon, not the turret variant. Although this may seem like a minor buff at first, it actually makes the Amped Modder’s Ultimate significantly more powerful. Sheila already does a hefty amount of damage, but the wind-up time makes it hard to use the weapon at close quarters, so any decrease means Rampart is more likely to land the first bullet. Shadow buffs in 12.1 Update: * Rampart “”Sheila”” Charge Up Time (-30%) : 1.75 -> 1.25 * Bow Shatter Caps Damage (+2): 3/6/9 -> 5/8/11Try out the Rampart buff, it feels nutty. — Shrugtal (@shrugtal) March 29, 2022 On top of this, Shatter Caps for the Bocek Bow received a small damage buff making the weapon a more viable option at close-range. Despite these changes being live in-game since the Warriors update arrived, it looks like Respawn is planning on reverting the silent buff to Rampart in a hotfix today. Hotfix incoming later today to revert the Rampart shadow buff to Mobile Minigun “”Sheila”” wind up time. — Shrugtal (@shrugtal) March 30, 2022 It’ll be interesting to see how the playerbase reacts to this news, as Rampart has the lowest pick rate out of any Legend in the entire game at 1.4%. So, removing the Ultimate buff will likely be a massive disappointment to the Amped Modder mains, but the devs clearly feel that the change is far too powerful to be left alone.

  • Apex Legends leak reveals Rampart town takeover coming in Season 10 for Arenas – Dexerto

Apex Legends leak reveals Rampart town takeover coming in Season 10 for Arenas Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends leak has revealed that a Rampart event is on the way and it’ll be the first-ever town takeover to take place in Arenas. Season 10 of Apex Legends has finally arrived and players are testing out all of the new content that Respawn has added in the major update. Whether it’s the absolutely lethal Rampage SMG, the huge changes to the World’s Edge map, or the brand new Legend Seer, the devs certainly knocked it out of the park with Emergence. However, despite all of the fresh and exciting additions, the community is already looking forward to the next collection event. While dataminers have already suggested that a monster-themed collection event could be on the cards, another leak has revealed that soon it may be Rampart’s turn to take her place in the spotlight. Leak reveals Rampart town takeover is coming to Arenas After a leak back in May gave players their first look at Rampart’s potential heirloom design, there’s been a lot of speculation around when the Amped Modder was finally going to get her own event. Well, according to reliable dataminer SomeoneWhoLeaks, she could be receiving her very own town takeover in the near future. While previous Legend events have affected each of the BR maps, Rampart’s will be the first to take place directly in Arenas. By the looks of it, this will result in her getting her very own Arenas map for the duration of the event. It’s hard to tell whether it’ll be a permanent addition to the map rotation, but it’s exciting news for fans of the fast-paced mode. Re-phrasing – her town takeovers IS an arena map, not maybe lol https://t.co/GUBZBPyYxk — SWL (@SomeoneWhoLeaks) August 3, 2021 Although we do not have any information about the type of map that Rampart will introduce alongside her event, it’s likely going to be associated with weapons, or it could even be themed around her modding shop back in Gaea. Either way, it’s an exciting idea and will potentially lead to more events being centered around Apex’s popular Arenas game mode. Of course, for now, all this information should be taken with a pinch of salt until Respawn release any official news on the topic.

  • Rampart is getting even more “spicy” buffs in Apex Legends Season 10 – Dexerto

Rampart is getting even more “spicy” buffs in Apex Legends Season 10 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends developers revealed Rampart is getting even more “spicy” buffs to build on the ones she received in Season 8, although they remained tight-lipped on what it could entail. Rampart hasn’t been well-received since being added to the game. She often winds up at the bottom of every Apex Legends tier list, including our own. That doesn’t mean she can’t be effective. Some tips and tricks will go a long way. But for the most part, she’s dwindling in mediocrity. However, in the official Apex Legends Legacy Update AMA, developers revealed they’d got some more “spicy” buffs in the works, which is delightful news to everyone who wants to see the bustling blue-collar legend back in contention. When an Apex Legends player asked what we can expect in the next batch of Rampart’s buffs, a developer responded, saying, “You can place Sheila on a Crypto drone and fly it around the map!” Of course, he was only joking. That would be completely broken. But he did confirm there are some “spicy” buffs on the way. Unfortunately, he couldn’t reveal too many details. However, if it all goes to plan, they should be ready in time for the next season. “It’s a bit too early to talk about her spicy buff because we don’t yet know if it’ll work, and if so, when we can ship it. Right now, if everything goes well (which it never does), you can expect it halfway through Season 10.” If the “spicy” buffs live up to the hype, Rampart could be viable again in Apex Legends Season 10. You heard it straight from the horse’s mouth. However, considering the last buffs she received were a little underwhelming despite being a step in the right direction, we’ll have to wait and see how the next batch pans out.

  • Apex Legends Rampart heirloom revealed: Problem Solver – Dexerto

Apex Legends Rampart heirloom revealed: Problem Solver Respawn EntertainmentThe Evolution Collection Event has been announced in Apex Legends and it’s bringing Rampart her very own heirloom, the Problem Solver. Season 10 of Apex Legends is now live and the community is getting stuck into all the new content that Emergence has to offer. Whether it’s the absolutely lethal Rampage SMG, the brand new Legend Seer, or the huge changes to the World’s Edge map, Respawn certainly knocked it out of the park with the latest update. However, now the Evolution Collection event has been scheduled for September 14, players are looking forward to the next chapter in Season 10. While the Town Takeover, Arenas changes, and cosmetics have players excited, it’s Rampart’s new heirloom that’s getting most of the attention. First look at Rampart’s Problem Solver heirloom On September 9, Respawn Entertainment released the Evolution Collection event trailer to their official YouTube channel and gave fans their first look at Ramparts heirloom. The hefty wrench is called the Problem Solver and matches the leaks that were released back in May. With a metallic red and grey color scheme, the weapon fits Rampart’s personality perfectly. Always looking to mod and improve various weapons, it makes sense that the Amped Modder would be carrying around a tool like this while competing in the Apex Games. Luckily for us, the trailer showcases all of the unique animations that the Problem Solver has in-game and it definitely looks like an heirloom worth grinding for. The Evolution Collection event begins on September 14, so start your countdown timers and get ready to obtain all of the items so you can get your hands on the Problem Solver. Keep in mind, after the collection event finishes, the only way to get the heirloom will be through packs, so don’t leave it all down to luck. • Rampart’s Apex Legends Season 10 buffs have made her stronger than ever – Dexerto

Rampart’s Apex Legends Season 10 buffs have made her stronger than ever Respawn EntertainmentRampart was, definitively, Apex Legends’ worst character. That was until the Evolution Collection buffs, allowing her to take the now-mobile Sheila minigun with her. Now, Rampart’s pick and win rates are through the roof, and she could shake up the meta. Let’s face it: Rampart was a joke in Apex Legends. The Amped Modder has struggled to find a place in the meta since joining the roster in Season 6. Numerous buffs to her Amped Covers and her Sheila minigun did nothing to solve the crux of her identity problem. Then, the Evolution Collection update came and changed all of that. With Rampart now able to take Sheila with her — almost like having a third gun — she has now become a force to be reckoned with. It’s still early days, but according to data from ApexLegendsStatus, Rampart isn’t just popular: She’s healthy, and perhaps trending towards overpowered. Rampart’s pick rate is, at the time of publishing, around 6.5%. It peaked at over 7% on September 15 when the patch dropped, which was a far cry from her 1.8% play rate just a day earlier. It puts her sixth on the Apex Legends popularity charts behind Octane (14.3%), Wraith (11.4%), Pathfinder (10.1%), Bloodhound (8.7%), and Lifeline (8.4%). It’s not just casual players picking Rampart. In fact, she’s becoming popular in high elo at a much more rapid rate. At the top of Predator, Rampart’s win rate sits around 17.61%, which is middle of the pack compared to other Legends. However, her pick rate has boomed from around 0.3% to 1.89% between Top 100 players in ranked. Dexerto has confirmed this data with ApexLegendsStatus. Apex Legends win rates in ranked after Evolution Collection patch Win rates and play rates based on Top 100 Predator players. Data from September 15 to September 20 (9299 games). While some of that play rate increase can be attributed to players testing out the changes, that sharp rise could mean bigger things to come for Rampart. With the next season of ALGS around the corner, and a shift to King’s Canyon on the card for ranked, it’s a perfect storm for Rampart’s emergence into the meta. She’s now more mobile thanks to the Sheila buff, meaning her team doesn’t need to bunker down in one place. This is a major boon to pro teams. This combo is going to be a problem LOL Octane+Rampart+Sheila pic.twitter.com/bYZ4ce2JRH — Noko (@Nokokopuffs) September 14, 2021 King’s Canyon in ranked is also a major factor. Having Charge Towers dotted across the map is huge for Rampart players as they can drop onto one on spawn, charge their Sheila, and have a free gun for the early game. Top players and streamers are already singing her praises, and it could just be a matter of time until everyone catches on and realizes that Rampart will be meta in Apex Legends. It’s a funny thing to read, and even harder to type, but it’s true. In her words: “Say hello to Sheila.”

  • Rampart Amped Cover bug is making Apex Legends crash – Dexerto

Rampart Amped Cover bug is making Apex Legends crash Respawn EntertainmentA Season6 bug with Rampart’s tactical ability ‘Amped Cover’ is reportedly causing some Apex Legends players’ game to crash when doubling up on the walls in the same spot. With the new Season 6 update, the Apex community are getting creative in order to stress test the latest Legend, Rampart, and all of the lethal gadgets she’s bringing to World’s Edge. This includes strategies or set-ups that might not seem viable, but are attempted in the Arena all the same. As people discover the best ways to work with her ability kit, there have been some combinations that apparently don’t play too well with Respawn’s program. This has caused issues for players like user ‘aya-moon’ who encountered a strange interaction that makes Apex literally unplayable since it creates a “problem processing game logic.” “When two Rampart [Amped Covers] are placed and shot through, the player disconnects,” they said. “[It] happened in a real game and tested it out in Firing Range.” Sure enough, in their uploaded clip, aya-moon reconstructs the situation with one Amped Cover directly behind another. To have a control in this experiment, they placed a single tactical right next to them and shot right through it. As expected, Rampart’s wall worked as it was meant to with a single wall up, but that wasn’t the case for the next shot fired just a couple of feet apart from the first one. Almost instantaneously, the P2020 round that was supposed to pierce both walls made the game stall, eventually crashing the player out of the practice tool. The game returned a message saying: “There was a problem processing game logic. Please try again.” In recreating the experiment on PC, many people saw that only the first wall remains intact while the other ones get destroyed. Players kept seeing experience the same issue over again, although some maintained that the walls in general use could also cause a crash. It’s unclear what could be causing these problems, but if Rampart keeps crashing Apex Legends for some people, Respawn could start investigating it in the coming days.

  • Rampart’s abilities in Apex Legends Season 6 revealed – Dexerto

Rampart’s abilities in Apex Legends Season 6 revealed Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends have finally revealed the abilities of the new Season 6 Legend Rampart. Following months of speculation, Respawn confirmed their battle royale’s 14th Legend will be none other than turret-loving Rampart. The Indian engineer, real name Ramya Parekh, will finally debut in-game on August 18. Little was previously known about the weapon modder, however. We do know she’s going to be able to fix and build equipment with a new crafting mechanic in Season 6. Rampart’s abilities Tactical: Amped Cover – Build a crouch-cover wall which deploys full-cover amped wall that blocks incoming shots and Amps outgoing shots – Passive: Modded Loader – Increased Magazine/Heat capacity and faster reloads/recharge when using LMGs and the Minigun. – Ultimate: Sheila – Place a mounted machine gun that anyone can use. High ammo capacity, long reload time. – The character trailer was dropped on Twitter with the caption: “The best modder in the Outlands, Rampart backs up her big mouth with big guns she designed herself.” Described in the trailer as “prefect for fortifying her squad’s position”, her abilities seem to be about consolidating one particular location, allowing a defensive-minded team to fight off all attackers. Her Tactical Ability is confirmed as ‘Amped Cover’ – a reinforced wall that provides cover, as well as “charging outgoing fire for devastating effect”. Her Passive Ability is called ‘Modded Loader’. As it sounds, she will be able to reload faster when using LMGs and the Shiela, and will receive an increased magazine capacity. It’s fair to assume the logic behind this is that Rampart has modded the magazine’s to make them more efficient. 🚨 Rampart character trailer! Check out her abilities coming in #ApexLegends Season 6 👀pic.twitter.com/J4CU0V73e4 — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) August 16, 2020 Finally, her Ultimate Ability is what we’ve all been expecting – Sheila. The ‘Emplaced Minigun’ will have a high ammo capacity and minimal recoil, but will make Rampart vulnerable while she is operating it. So there you have it; an official look at how Rampart will play when she finally makes her debut in the Apex Games. A defensive legend, she will use her immense firepower and engineering skills to make defense the best form of attack. We’ll have to wait and see how this shake’s up the game’s existing meta. She’s set to make her first appearance at the start of Season 6, courtesy of returning Titanfall 2 antagonist Kuben Blisk, on August 18.

  • Respawn fixes “infinite charge” Rampage and Sentinel exploit in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Respawn fixes “infinite charge” Rampage and Sentinel exploit in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentRespawn have quickly fixed an exploit with the Rampage LMG and Sentinel which allowed both weapons to be “infinitely charged” for the rest of the game, patching it out in a December 9 update. The Rampage and Sentinel are pretty lacklustre guns just by themselves in Apex Legends. However, when players “charge” them up with Thermite Grenades and Shield Cells, they become a whole new beast. The Rampage gets a huge rate-of-fire increase, while the Sentinel hits for big numbers when charged. The downside is the charge doesn’t last forever, and requires players to use up some of their inventory to do so. However, there was an Apex Legends exploit to circumvent that. Just after the Raiders collection event update, players discovered if you drop a Thermite or Shield Cells from your inventory while in the middle of the Rampage’s charge animation, the items are not consumed but the guns still gets powered up. This means it’s possible to keep the LMG infinitely revved up without having to worry about finding more Thermite Grenades. Showcasing the glitch on the Apex Legends subreddit, Gutami demonstrated how simple the exploit is to perform in-game. However, for those wishing to abuse the exploit any further, Respawn has put a stop to it in a December 9 hotfix. The update patched “an issue where the Sentinel and Rampage could be permanently in the charged-up state.” The small patch also removed a glitch which was giving players Wattson’s newly-released heirloom for free. We just pushed a small update for @PlayApex that includes fixes for: 🔋 An issue where the Sentinel and Rampage could be permanently in the charged-up state ⚡️ Wattson’s heirloom being granted incorrectly to some players 🌐 Various server errors— Respawn (@Respawn) December 10, 2021 It’s back to normal for the Sentinel and Rampage — no more infinite charge — but that doesn’t mean you should shy away from either gun if you are confident with it.

  • RamBeau returns to Apex Legends esports after short-lived retirement – Dexerto

RamBeau returns to Apex Legends esports after short-lived retirement Joe Brady/ ALGSBeau ‘RamBeau’ Sheidy has announced his return to competition Apex Legends after a short-lived retirement and a stint with DarkZero Esports. RamBeau had an interesting 2023 ALGS season. The player and his team joined The Guard in late 2022 and competed at the 2023 Split 1 Playoffs under the organization where they placed in the top 20. However, the team was caught up in the organization’s downsizing in early 2023, with it telling him and his teammates that they were allowed to look for other opportunities. The squad eventually signed with Sentinels on March 10 and started competing under their brand. A few weeks after signing with Sentinels, RamBeau announced his retirement from competitive Apex Legends. He cited a loss of love for the game, and “unfortunate family matters” as his reasons for walking away. RamBeau to return to Apex Legends esports for 2024 ALGS season However, RamBeau would return to competitive play weeks later with DarkZero Esports, saying he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to play for one of the best teams in the world. His return caused some controversy as other pros found his short-lived retirement disrespectful to his former team. The Apex pro would go on to address the controversy publicly, revealing that he apologized to his former teammates and would have changed how he handled the situation if he could. DarkZero would eventually release RamBeau on May 2, 2023, in favor of young up-and-comer Brody ‘Xynew’ Geissler. DarkZero would go on to place 23rd in the ALGS Championships, leaving the tournament in the bracket stage. Now, with a whirlwind 2023 ALGS season behind him, RamBeau revealed on social media that he has signed a contract with a team and is returning to professional Apex Legends. “Back for Year 4. Time to bring the energy back to this mf,” he said.

  • RamBeau addresses backlash over Apex Legends retirement and return – Dexerto

RamBeau addresses backlash over Apex Legends retirement and return Joe Brady/EAApex Legends pro Beau ‘RamBeau’ Sheidy has addressed the backlash over his retirement and swift return to action with DarkZero Esports after he left Sentinels scrambling to find a third player. Back on March 28, RamBeau announced that he would be stepping away from Apex Legends and the Sentinels roster as he cited a loss of love for the competitive side of the game as a factor for retiring. Though, that retirement didn’t last long. A few weeks after retiring, and causing a fair few roster moves as a result, RamBeau joined the DarkZero Esports squad. That swift return prompted a bit of backlash within the competitive Apex community, with ImperialHal calling it “bulls*it” and Snip3down saying it didn’t make any sense at all. Now, RamBeau has addressed some of the backlash and apologized to his former teammates, giving his side of the story as to what went down. RamBeau apologizes to Apex Legends players amid backlash over retirement & return “It’s definitely been tough to see what some people have to say, some people are going to have opinions on you I guess,” RamBeau said as he joined the Apex After Hours podcast hosted by Jon ‘Falloutt’ Kefaloukos on April 17. Speaking on his initial retirement, he added that he was “going through a lot” in regard to family health issues and it was “really tough” for him to focus on anything at the time. “I saw some comments like ‘he’s probably bullsh*tting about all the family problems he’s going through’ but I promise you, I’m not.” RamBeau continued that he regretted how things went down but said he didn’t make the switch to join a more competitive roster. “I genuinely am sorry for how I handled the situation. If I could go back and do it over again, I totally would and change how I handled it, but I can’t,” he said, apologizing to his former teammates. “I’m a human, I make mistakes and I hope we can all just move on.” It remains to be seen how the wider Apex community takes things, but, there have already been plenty who have come around to RamBeau’s apology and breakdown of the situation.

  • R-301 glitch in Apex Legends Season 14 ruins its accuracy – Dexerto

R-301 glitch in Apex Legends Season 14 ruins its accuracy Respawn EntertainmentA peculiar R-301 glitch in Apex Legends is disrupting the bullet accuracy of the gun, causing serious problems for players. R-301 is one of the most popular Assault Rifles in Apex Legends. Its accuracy and effectiveness are unmatched in comparison to most other weapons in the game. It is one of the few weapons in the game that are handy at both long and close-range combat. However, a new glitch has been discovered by players where the weapon doesn’t shoot the way it’s supposed to while it’s ADS-ed, with the bullet accuracy messed up for the initial shots. R-301 shoots like hipfire when ADS sweetdreams, Apex pro for NRG, came across this R-301 glitch on his August 16 livestream. The ADS animation was complete but the bullets acted like hipfire. Players have reported that the effect is most visible when a ranged scope is attached to the gun. sweetdreams had a 3x scope attached to his R-301 while he was trying to spray down the enemy. While it’s most likely to be a glitch, there’s also a fair chance of Respawn secretly nerfing the weapon. In response to this tweet, many players have reported that they are facing the same issue. As it appears to be a widespread issue, Respawn will hopefully address the accuracy bug soon. For a game like Apex Legends, where gunplay does all the talking, basic weapon mechanics need to be on point to avoid inconsistencies.

  • Apex Legends pro PVPX wins intense duel with high IQ grenade play – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro PVPX wins intense duel with high IQ grenade play Cloud9 Apex Legends player Jamison ‘PVPX’ Moore hit an incredible high IQ grenade to win an intense one-on-one duel against a Pathfinder, who will surely be licking their wounds. Apex Legends quick play games are host to all sorts of shenanigans. From wacky strategies to gentlemen’s agreements, almost anything flies in the lawless world. However, as Cloud 9 Apex Legends player PVPX found himself on the losing end of a duel, he enacted a high IQ grenade play to ensure at the end of the day, he got the win in this intense battle. PVPX, his partner Calamiti, and a rogue Pathfinder ended up being the final three players in the game. Instead of wiping each other out on first site, the trio decided to have a bit of fun, doing a series of 1v1 duels. Playing Wraith, the pro player set up his portal in the middle of the circle, with all players trying to avoid getting dragged out through the portal. As the end of the game neared though, someone had to be crowned the Champion, so PVPX and the rogue Pathfinder decided to duke it out once and for all. The Cloud9 player was toying around with the enemy, but ultimately ended up losing the final duel. However, there was one thing keeping him in the game — his gold knockdown shield, and a grenade. Before he was downed, he sneakily threw the grenade in the air straight up, meaning that it would fall and hit the duelists right on their head. He then held up his knockdown shield, waiting for the grenade to drop onto the enemy Pathfinder. The nade landed on top of the robot, blowing him away and netting PVPX and his partner the win. While he was laughing about the unfortunate death of his enemy, he also felt bad that his sparring partner lost in that fashion. “No dude,” he said. “I wanted him to win! Damnit, that was hilarious, what a good way to end.” Calamiti chimed in from the sidelines, feeling sympathetic for the Pathfinder who just spent the last 10 minutes getting bullied around. “That guy was so happy that he finally killed us, and then he gets naded,” he said. While it’s unlikely to work in big open spaces, there was nowhere for the Pathfinder to go to dodge the grenade. He would either die to the zone trying to run away, or have to take the full brunt of its damage, making it a quick thinking 200 IQ play. While some could argue that PVPX broke the gentlemen’s agreement of a proper fisty-cuffs duel, at least he didn’t win it by shooting the enemy down.

  • Apex Legends pro calls for Respawn to rework ‘useless’ white loot – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro calls for Respawn to rework ‘useless’ white loot Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro Jamison ‘PVPX’ Moore has called for Respawn to rework Apex Legends’ “horrible” common weapon and loot drops found around King’s Canyon, and suggested the game can only be improved by deleting them. Every Apex player has been in the same situation at one time or another. You drop into a high tier loot zone, and scoop up white armor and an RE-45 with no attachments. Meanwhile, your enemy scored rare armor and a kitted out R-99. You, of course, lose the ensuing firefight. You’re dumped from the match. Your opponent had better recoil from the attachments they found, and 50 more HP too. But what if you’d landed in King’s Canyon armed with armor and gear already? According to Cloud9 star PVPX, that’s the main change Respawn needs to implement in the battle royale. Do away with common guns and gear— which makes up 12.5% of Apex loot — and make them starter items instead. He’s suggested that switch to the Respawn devs. Dump the “unnecessary” glut of weak loot options scattered across World’s Edge and King’s Canyon. In doing so, early-game gear would become “more efficient… and effective.” “Remove all white items by making them default to their respective guns, and [make players] spawn in with a white helmet, backpack, knockdown shield, and evo shield. Remove white armors and increase EVO shield to 50HP,” he said. The reasoning behind PVPX’s bold call? There are 88 lootable items in Apex right now, including 11 white player and gun attachments. With the common armor vs epic armor issue out of the game, everything will be “more balanced.” The C9 pro continued: “White items — gear and gun attachments — takes up roughly 20% of the loot table and isn’t really necessary in the first place.” “In my opinion, Apex could gain [a few] things: fluidity in quicker gameplay and more efficient looting… [and] a bit more balance since blue vs purple is only a 25HP difference, and blue vs purple attachments isn’t as drastic as whites vs purples.” He also added this change would help both “aggressive” and “passive” teams. “Squads who fight off drop have a chance to buff their armors to high tiers, [and] teams who play passive can loot higher tier armors instead.” Sent to couple Apex Devs Let me know what you think RT if you agree pic.twitter.com/2ub7GhF62j — FURIA Jxmo (@Jxmo_1) March 25, 2020 The real question, however, is if Respawn will listen to PVPX. They’ve proven they’re willing to change up loot, from permanently adding Evo Shields, to constantly adding new guns, but there’s no telling if they’d make changes this extreme. For now though, you’re just going to have to skip the whites and find the best loot yourself. If you’re not sure where to look, check out our best loot zones guide; if you’re not so sure what to look for, read our ultimate weapon tier list.

  • PVE mode potentially coming to Apex Legends according to leaks – Dexerto

PVE mode potentially coming to Apex Legends according to leaks The Apex Legends leaks are coming thick and fast, with the latest suggesting that PVE (player vs environment) options could be coming to the battle royale game. For those who don’t know, PVE refers to combat with a computer-controlled enemy. These can vary from soldiers, animals and monsters. It is the latter that would tie in with Apex Legends the best. Among other findings, a recent data mine has unearthed the potential addition of PVE combat, but little can be gleaned from the files other than their existence. However, the file names include the PVE prefix followed by “button”, “cannon”, “hub”, “matchcandy” and “squad”. Theoretically a file can be named anything and provide an entirely different purpose. With that said, the most interesting of these are cannon and matchcandy. This could suggest the potential for a cannon within the game (to kill computer-controlled enemies) and a reward for doing so, in reference to the matchcandy name. Lot of PVE Options found too. #ApexLegends #Apexpartner #apexnews #Apexleaks #ApexLegendsBattleRoyale #apexlegendsseason1 #apexlegendsleaks #apexlegendsclips #Apex pic.twitter.com/URILnY0qWF — Apex Legends – News & Leaks (@RealApexLeaks) March 20, 2019 It is also possible these files are given vague names to minimize the information or even intentionally throw data miners off. Alternatively, these could be files from Titanfall 2 or the scrapped Titanfall 3 (which became Apex Legends) which have found their way into the Apex Legends code. Nevertheless, if a PVE addition to Apex Legends is coming in the future, it highlights the big plans EA and Respawn have for the incredibly popular battle royale game.

  • Puzzling Apex Legends glitch teleports Revenant across World’s Edge – Dexerto

Puzzling Apex Legends glitch teleports Revenant across World’s Edge Respawn EntertainmentA confusing Apex Legends glitch is teleporting Revenant players across the entire map due to an awkward interaction with the Death Totem ability and moving trains. The latest addition to Respawn’s battle royale roster, Revenant is a sneaky Legend that can momentarily escape death thanks to his Death Totem Ultimate. Rather than teleporting back to the location of the ability, however, players have been sent to completely random areas due to a confusing bug. Closing in on the final moments of a tense match, Twitch streamer ‘Fraelyne’ was among the final 22 players in the lobby. Hiding inside the train before it took off once again, the streamer set their Death Totem, entered Death Protection, and looked around outside for a few eliminations. Heading onto the roof of the locomotive, they lost a gunfight, before fading away and being sent back. While they had obviously expected to appear back inside the now-moving train, the streamer was sent to a completely different place entirely. “What the…umm,” the streamer said in complete shock as they almost walked off the map and into the lava below. “Where did you go?” a teammate asked. Without explanation, they were teleported away from their squad and left to fend for themselves. Trying to comprehend the situation, a teammate suggested that the moving train is what led to the shocking displacement. “I think what happened is they killed you, and you went back to your teleport thing, but because the train was moving forward it slingshotted you,” they said. Able to utilize a nearby balloon and float back towards their team in no time, the streamer fortunately wasn’t separated for all too long. This isn’t the first time Revenant’s ultimate has led to teleportation glitches either — others have been reporting similar issues since the character was released. Players should look to avoid using the Death Totem on any moving surface until the issue is patched out, unless they really want to be sent to an entirely new part of World’s Edge, and potentially have to fight their way back to their team.

  • Punishment details for Apex Legends ranked mode quitters revealed – Dexerto

Punishment details for Apex Legends ranked mode quitters revealed RespawnApex Legends developers Respawn Entertainment have revealed the punishments for players who decide to call it quits early during the new ranked league games. Fans of the battle royale game are gearing up for the release of Season two, Battle Charge, where a whole host of new content is set to be on offer – including a new legend, battle pass updates, and the long-awaited ranked mode. However, fans who think they’re in for an easy ride with climbing the new ranks might be in for a shock. Players will use rank points to ‘buy’ into games – losing them with a loss and, obviously, gaining more with a win. Yet, anyone who quits out on a game will have to worry about just losing points. In their announcement post for season two, the developers offered more insight to the penalties players will suffer. As the developers consider ranked to be a high-stakes, high-reward environment, they want higher level of commitment from players. They added: “Players who abandon their teammates will be hit with a matchmaking penalty in both regular and Ranked matches. Penalties will result in a player being barred from joining a match for escalating amounts of time-based on how often they have abandoned in Ranked.” Players will be seen as abandoning games if they leave before the match is over for them – including in character select, leaving while alive, or leaving when you are dead but can still be respawned by teammates The developers did not state, however, just how severe these penalties will be but considering they work on an escalation basis, serial quitters will be punished much harsher than someone who rages on their first attempt. It will be interesting to see who is the first player to be handed one of these temporary time suspension and just how long they will last for. We won’t have to wait too long to find out, though, as Season two of Apex Legends releases on July 2 at 10 AM PST/1PM EST/6:00 PM BST.

  • PS4 players smash Apex Legends single-match squad kills world record – Dexerto

PS4 players smash Apex Legends single-match squad kills world record The world record held in Apex Legends for most kills by a squad in a single match has been broken by a team on Playstation 4. The trio of players, whose in-game names are ‘Gaitor_423,’ ‘Pensatas,’ and ‘ImCadillackin,’ managed to get a whopping 45 eliminations in a single match. This blows past the previous console world record of 40 kills in a single match, which was set by ‘CruisingPaladin,’ ‘rickyjosephbarr,’ and ‘zcj,’ on February 16, although those players were on the Xbox One. In fact, not only is this new eliminations total a new world record for console players, it’s a new world record outright, as their total also surpassed the 41 eliminations that PC players ‘ssjfpsTV,’ ‘ItsScubby,’ ‘SHAAFFER’ got on February 12. It would be hard to argue against ImCadillackin being named MVP of the match, considering he led the team in kills (19), damage dealt (2857), players revived (4), and players respawned (1). This is the third record to have been broken in Apex Legends over the past two days, as former Overwatch pro player Mendokusaii set the record for most PC solo eliminations on February 19, the same day that a PS4 player set the same mark on console. Since trios is the only mode currently available in Apex Legends, there is a limited amount of world records available for players to set and/or break, and you can check out the full list of current records by visiting our Apex Legends world records hub. Do you think anyone will break the squad kill record anytime soon? Tweet us @Dexerto to let us know what you think!

  • Proposed Apex Legends buffs would make Loba & Lifeline even better teammates – Dexerto

Proposed Apex Legends buffs would make Loba & Lifeline even better teammates Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans are well-aware of how impactful character abilities are to the battle royale and have come up with a few buffs that would turn Loba and Lifeline into consummate teammates. Both Loba and Lifeline already boast abilities that make their team’s lives easier. But players believe each character could use a slight buff to increase viability at every tier of play. Loba, in particular, has been subjected to numerous concepts — including a recent buff idea to the “Burglar’s Best Friend” teleportation bracelet. That idea, changing cool-down based on teleportation distance, caught the eye of Respawn Entertainment’s Lead Game Designer Daniel Klein, who revealed that the team is considering all options. One such option has now been brought up by Reddit’s ‘eatmeupin30sec,’ who thinks that Loba’s ultimate, “Black Market Boutique,” could be used in an even more team-friendly fashion. Suggesting that the Black Market be able to pick up fallen teammates’ banners, eatmeupin30sec spurred quality discourse and another idea to buff Lifeline. The Loba idea is a reasonable one. Just as Crypto can use his drone to pick up the banners left behind by killed teammates from afar, Loba’s Black Market could receive a slight tweak for a similar function. This would simply give the Legend an additional boost should their team run into unfortunate circumstances. Thinking of abilities that could help a team in dire circumstances, another Redditor’s buff concept for Lifeline got positive feedback. The support character’s kit is team-focused and ‘brachyboy1’ suggests that could be furthered by enabling her ultimate, “Care Package,” to serve as a Respawn Beacon. Considering how long her ultimate takes to charge, this buff could give it an additional bump in utility — especially toward the later parts of a match. While Respawn is unlikely to touch any buffs or nerfs just yet, these are interesting, team-focused ideas that make both characters more viable. And, as each Legend’s ultimate loses allure once a team is already kitted in the later game, these buffs maintain utility throughout a match. With thousands of upvotes and hundreds of comments, it’s clear that the Apex community believes each Legend could use a slight rework and that these suggestions hold weight. Klein is active on social media, so we’ll be monitoring any official response from the developers.

  • This Prestige system in Apex Legends would finally let players push past level 100 – Dexerto

This Prestige system in Apex Legends would finally let players push past level 100 Respawn EntertainmentDiehard Apex Legends players have been sitting at level 100 in the game for a while now, and a revamped take to a prestige system would finally give them something more to grind for in the battle royale. By simply playing Apex Legends people can get hundreds of hours of entertainment dropping into Kings Canyon. But the progression and rewards can stagnate after reaching the level cap, leaving a lot of players lost for something to play for. Even though there is a Battle Pass to keep the game’s rewards somewhat fresh, players looking for an alternative would be hard-pressed on finding a reason to keep dropping into a game. Apex Legends can add some prestige to its leveling In a Reddit post, user ‘Lost_Set’ created such an alternative that would take a bit of work from Respawn to make but would give players an infinitely better progression system to track their progress while dishing out meaningful rewards. “I think a prestige system would be a great solution,” Lost_Set said. “Every time you hit a level that is a multiple of 100, you are given the option to prestige. At certain levels (101, 301, 501, 701) you get to add another badge to your banner. At 901 you get a golden banner. Level 1000 should be a big prize, I’m not sure what though.” Lost_Set went on to say that while extra badges are great, it wouldn’t be the only reward for prestiging in their design. They say that it would continue the trend of receiving loot crates every so often, similar to how it was “pre level 100.” Moreover, the user even outlined a benefit to not prestiging in their system: “If you sit at level 100*n, then you get a small number of crafting materials every time you earn a new level.” Could a Prestige system ever make it to Apex Legends? Either way, the Redditor thinks their take would “keep the game rewarding for players” regardless if they take advantage of the prestige or not. Read more: Apex Legends 2? Don’t count on it – For onlookers thinking it wouldn’t work since the devs rely on selling loot boxes to players in their free-to-play model, Lost_Set thinks there’s a give and take relationship: “They sell more crates if they retain a large player base. They retain a large player base by giving their players something to work towards. Right now they are not doing that.” Lost_Set’s design is so far proving to be popular with the masses, and with the next season of Apex Legends coming on July 2 the devs could be on the lookout for creative ways to keep players engaged in their game.

  • Predictions for what’s coming in Apex Legends Season 4 update – Dexerto

Predictions for what’s coming in Apex Legends Season 4 update With Apex Legends Season 3 drawing to a close, players are getting hyped in preparation for what’s next, and are predicting what’s in-store as we look ahead to Season 4. Apex Legends’ third season brought a ton of changes to the battle royale. From the brand new map World’s Edge, to a new Legend in the form of Crypto, it was the biggest update to date. While Respawn’s bold move left many players yearning for Kings Canyon’s return, the third installment titled ‘Meltdown’ has been an unprecedented success, since October was the game’s top grossing month since launch. Fans predict Apex Legends Season 4 Given Respawn’s Season 3 efforts thus far, fans are eagerly looking forward to the next installment. Scheduled to start on February 4 (the one-year anniversary of the release date), Season 4 will likely change up the meta yet again. In terms of what we’ve seen so far, each season has introduced one new Legend to their now diverse list of characters. However, beyond that, Respawn has introduced various elements to their battle royale. That hasn’t stopped one fan from posting a ‘Bingo Card’ to the Apex Legends subreddit, which attempts to predict what will be added in February. While the Reddit user chimed in with various inevitable character buffs/nerfs, they also probed a bunch of features which fans have been longing for in Apex Legends, such as post-match replays and a dedicated spectator mode. From the addition of a PvE mode to the return of Kings Canyon. If the original Apex Games arena is set to make a comeback, where better to introduce a brand new PvE mode to celebrate Apex Legends’ one year anniversary. Indeed, the Redditor aptly predicts that an anniversary event will be bundled into Season 4, which is pretty much a given. Right at the top of the user’s prediction list is a plea for Respawn to remove skill-based matchmaking — a topic that has caused quite the stir among the Apex Legends pros and faithful fans alike. The fan also anticipates that two Legends will be added (breaking the usual trend of one per season). This is perhaps a tad overzealous, considering that the season will likely be littered with a shed load of fresh content in the form of limited-time events. Given that a complete Legend profile has essentially surfaced for Revenant from in-game leaks, it is highly likely that we will see the character during Season 4, after their brief appearance in the Fight or Fright LTM.

  • Wild Wraith portal glitch is ideal counter to aggressive Apex Legends enemies – Dexerto

Wild Wraith portal glitch is ideal counter to aggressive Apex Legends enemies Respawn/EAApex Legends players have got a glitch with Wraith’s portal that allows them to cleverly outplay overly aggressive enemies, however, some want it to be fixed by Respawn. Ever since Apex Legends first launched, Wraith has always maintained a top standing in the battle royale thanks to her abilities that allow players to both push aggressively and escape with ease. Over the last few seasons, though, those abilities – especially her portal – have been used in more nefarious ways. Players have been able to use weapons and healing items while creating an escape path, making Wraith even more powerful than normal. Now, with Season 13 on the horizon, players want a fix for a portal glitch that allows Wraith mains to cleverly outplay aggressive enemies who are hungry to rack up kills. The bug was highlighted by YouTuber RossBobSquirrel, who stated that it’s “wild” that Respawn has still yet to address the problem despite it being around for some time now. While some portal bugs have been pretty game-breaking, this one is somewhat situational given that it requires a zipline to make it work. As the YouTuber shows, interacting with the zipline when placing the exit of the portal will turn it into a loop rather than a means of escape. Some players quickly theorized how powerful it could be when being chased by an enemy team, seeing as they’d be surprised that they’d return to the first part of the portal. “This is brutal if used properly. Hope Respawn can fix it,” said one. With the bug being around for a little while, it’s unknown as to whether or not Respawn can actually fix it on the fly as they have with some other Wraith issues. One player suggested that the devs may have to remove the popular legend from play, as they did with the Sentinel and Rampage LMG, but that would upset plenty of fans. So, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

  • Powerful Valkyrie trick in Apex Legends allows you to spam her rockets – Dexerto

Powerful Valkyrie trick in Apex Legends allows you to spam her rockets Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have discovered a simple Valkyrie trick that allows the Winged Avenger to spam her rocket Tactical in gunfights. Season 11 of Apex Legends is on the cusp of releasing and that means players are gearing up for all the new content that’s scheduled to arrive. Although the announcement of the new Legend Ash has got the community on the edge of their seat, players are still discovering unique mechanics for older characters. One of which is Valkyrie, who arrived in the Apex Games all the way back in Season 9 and has become massively popular among players due to her flying abilities and explosive Tactical. While her rockets are incredibly fun to use, they can only be activated every 30 seconds. Well, that was until a player discovered a clever trick that reduces the cooldown to 6 seconds if you can get the timing correct. Valkyrie rocket trick significantly reduces Tactical cooldown Learning new tips & tricks for your main Legend is key if you’re looking to keep up with the competition and outplay your opponents. While a lot of these techniques can take plenty of practice, they’re incredibly powerful once fully mastered. So, if you’re a fan of the Winged Avenger, Reddit user Particular_Mind7785 has a trick that’s definitely worth learning if you love firing her rockets down upon your foes. As Valkyrie’s Tactical cooldown is based on how many rockets are fired at an opponent, using an Ultimate Accentlant immediately after the ability is used reduces the cooldown to 6 seconds, down from 30. By using this cancellation trick, you do fire fewer rockets and therefore cover less of an area with your Tactical, but the reduced amount of rockets still deal a similar amount of damage and apply the slowing effects, so it’s well worth it. Of course, in certain scenarios, covering a larger area with the rockets will always be the better option. However, when targeting isolated opponents, the massive cooldown reduction could be the difference-maker in a high-pressure gunfight. Overall, it just adds more versatility to Valkyrie’s kit and allows her to use her rockets more liberally, without having to worry about the massive cooldown.

  • Powerful L-STAR exploit gives it unlimited magazine in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Powerful L-STAR exploit gives it unlimited magazine in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentAn exploit has been discovered for the L-STAR in Apex Legends that negates the overheat feature, giving the LMG an unlimited magazine. Ever since the L-STAR arrived in Apex Legends back in Season 2, the LMG has been a polarizing gun within the community, with some players praising the weapon and others avoiding it completely. Despite this, after a number of buffs in recent seasons, the energy-based LMG has finally started to receive widespread play and can be absolutely lethal at medium range. Unlike the other guns in Apex, the L-STAR never needs to be reloaded, instead, a player can use the weapon until it overheats and then must wait a set amount of time for it to cool down. Well, that was until a recent exploit was discovered that allows players to effectively negate the overheat feature, giving the gun an unlimited magazine. L-STAR exploit gives weapon unlimited magazine Posted to the Apex Legends subreddit by jacknoyan, the player discovered that if you remove and then re-attach a magazine from the L-STAR as soon as it overheats, it resets the weapon, making it available to fire again immediately. As pointed out by a lot of the comments, this is only useful if you’re extremely quick and even then, you can just change weapon or play Rampart for the extra mag size. Despite this, the real danger of this exploit comes from players who will set up a macro, effectively making the process instant. This will give them an L-STAR with unlimited ammo that can be fired infinitely, making them a force to be reckoned with. While this exploit isn’t as dangerous as the infinite charge Rampage glitch from Season 11, it’s definitely an issue that the devs will need to fix as soon as possible. Keep in mind that using this glitch in-game to gain an advantage over other players may result in your account being banned, as Respawn is cracking down on players that abuse exploits.

  • Powerful Fuse ultimate exploit gives your team massive UAV in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Powerful Fuse ultimate exploit gives your team massive UAV in Apex Legends Respawn/EAA new spin on Fuse’s ultimate trick in Apex Legends can give players a pseudo UAV, and you don’t have to hit something as small as a grenade this time around. Since being introduced back in Season 8, Fuse has struggled to make a consistent impact on the meta in Apex Legends. While his abilities, on paper, are pretty strong, the Explosives Enthusiast can feel a bit clunky at times. The Salvo hero has had his moments in the battle royale, mostly in part thanks to his Motherlode ultimate ability, which can incase enemies in flames and stop them from getting around the map. In seasons gone by, players have also been able to take those flames and produce legal wallhacks with them by shooting a grenade into the sky and hitting it with the ultimate. Now, there is a different spin on things, and it’s actually even easier than before. The new take on things was pointed out by Redditor Aason37, who noted that you no longer have to hit a grenade to get a better view of your surroundings. Instead, you can hit a drop-ship if there is one overhead. Not only will you see the enemy who is rejoining the game via the drop-ship, but you’ll also cast the net wide enough to see players in a considerable surrounding area – with some comparing to the size of Seer’s ultimate. Though, obviously, you don’t get the heads up about enemy health. Just take a look at their second example and you’ll see that there were able to spot at least six different enemies around Command Center, so it is pretty effective. While it’s easier to pull off than the grenade trick, it still remains a situational thing given you’ll need a drop-ship to be overhead. And as there will likely be an enemy team in the area, you might not have the most time in the world. Though, if you’ve got a Fuse main in your Apex squad, why not give it a whirl one time.

  • Powerful Crypto drone trick charges shield for free in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Powerful Crypto drone trick charges shield for free in Apex Legends Respawn/EACrypto mains have got an easy way to recharge their shields while hiding in Apex Legends, and it’s actually pretty perfect for late-game situations. After requests upon requests from fans over the last few seasons, Respawn Entertainment finally gave some love to Crypto in Apex Legends Season 12, giving the recon legend a long-awaited buff. While some Crypto mains want the devs to go a little further and give him a tiny bit more power, the drone remains an incredibly useful tool for scouting out positions and getting a leg-up on opponents. On top of that, it can also be used in to gain some much-needed charge on Evo Shields, but you’ll have to line things up pretty perfectly alongside a Wattson pylon. The trick was highlighted in a big way by Twitch streamer xronya, who used Crypto’s drone while sitting inside a building, though, they were inside the line of sight of a nearby Wattson Interception Pylon. While Wattson’s ultimate does charge shields of nearby players, xronya did not receive any benefits until they flew Crypto’s drone within range of it – as this puts them both in the line of sight and range of the pylon. Once they switched back to the drone, their shield started regenerating as if they were standing next to the Wattson Ultimate like normal. As some players noted, it’s a pretty nice trick to have in your back pocket, but it is pretty situational. “I’m guessing it’ll get patched, but it’s nice to see some cool Crypto buffs/passives that you wouldn’t think of,” said one. “Starting to think that Crypto was never broken but we were all too stupid to understand how amazing he really was the whole time,” added another player, while some jokingly called it “wireless charging” for Crypto mains. As some noted, the trick could very well get patched in Season 13, seeing as it is a bit of an exploit between the two abilities. Though, we’ll just have to wait and see if that happens.

  • Powerful Apex Legends Kraber trick makes it a one-shot kill again after nerf – Dexerto

Powerful Apex Legends Kraber trick makes it a one-shot kill again after nerf Respawn EntertainmentA simple Apex Legends trick allows players to one-shot enemies with the Kraber despite the nerfs to the sniper in Season 13. Out of all the weapons in Apex Legends, there’s one that’s garnered more controversy than any other on the arsenal and that’s the Kraber. This heavy-duty sniper that can only be obtained through care packages was the only gun capable of one-shotting an opponent with full health and armor in the Outlands. That was until the Season 13 update when Respawn decided to significantly reduce the Kraber’s headshot multiplier, removing the ability to one-shot anyone with purple armor or above. Well, a powerful trick has been discovered that completely reverts the nerf, but you’ll need to be playing the Amped Modder, Rampart. Simple technique makes the Kraber one-shot again While some players praised Respawn for removing the one-shot power of the Kraber, others miss the highlight-reel plays that were possible back in Season 12. Well, if you miss taking down opponents from long-range with the devastating sniper, Apex YouTuber RossBobSquirrel has a simple solution to revert the damage nerfs. By playing Rampart, you have access to the Amped Modder’s Tactical which allows her to place down a shield wall. When firing bullets through these walls, all shots have a 20% damage boost. So, if you place down a wall before firing your Kraber at an enemy, you’ll be able to one-shot them once again no matter what shields they’re using. While this technique does require you to play a specific Legend, it may be worth picking up Rampart if you enjoy sniping enemies and taking out opponents from afar. With the buffs that she received in Season 13, she’s a strong pick in the right players’ hands and her Ultimate Shiela can wipe out an entire squad in seconds. Either way, next time you’re playing Rampart and get your hands on Kraber, head to high ground and test out this powerful trick.

  • Powerful Apex Legends hack makes it even harder to catch cheaters – Dexerto

Powerful Apex Legends hack makes it even harder to catch cheaters Respawn EntertainmentA powerful Apex Legends hack is making it extremely difficult to identify cheaters as the software seems to be able to auto-detect spectators and immediately disable the cheats. As with any multiplayer FPS, Apex Legends suffers from a lot of cheaters who use various programs to gain an unfair advantage over their competition. Although the majority of these players are automatically banned by Apex’s Easy Anti-Cheat software, some of them go under the radar for long periods of time. As a result, it’s extremely helpful for Respawn when the community reports these hackers after seeing them cheating via the spectate screen after they’ve been eliminated. Well, unfortunately, this may no longer be possible as advanced third-party software can now detect spectators and instantly disable any active hacks. Apex Legends cheaters are hiding hacks from spectators Whether a cheater is on your team or a member of an opposing squad, the easiest way to check for third-party software is to spectate from their perspective. This would usually be a blatant giveaway if the player was using an aimbot, speedhacks, or any other form of cheats and allow you to report them instantly. Well, this may no longer be possible according to top Predator player and YouTuber HisWattson who claims software can now detect spectators and disable any active cheaters immediately. Of course, this makes it appear as if the hacker is innocent and will result in them receiving significantly fewer reports, which will, in turn, lead to fewer cheaters getting banned. There’s a cheat that lets you know who is spectating you, so if you’ve ever had your whole team get one clipped by a guy then spectated and seen him miss every bullet, you know why! — FURIA HisWattson (@HisWattson) July 3, 2022 Popular Apex YouTuber Gaming Merchant also reported on the issue, warning their fans that it might be harder to pinpoint whether a player is cheating or not anymore. Luckily, the top commenter on their video shed some light on how the software works, revealing that the cheater is notified when a spectator has started watching their perspective. Not only that, this software has apparently been available since Season 10. “This has been in-game since season 10,” they wrote. “The cheats have an auto turnoff feature when you’re being spectated, and alerts for when spectating begins.” If these software advancements are correct, Respawn may not be able to rely on player reports in the future, as spotting cheaters via spectate looks like it’s going to get harder and harder.

  • Potential Loba buff spotted in Apex Legends Halloween trailer – Dexerto

Potential Loba buff spotted in Apex Legends Halloween trailer Respawn EntertainmentUpdate: Bad news for Loba players, Respawn have confirmed this was just an edit for the trailer, and isn’t an actual change to Loba’s tactical ability. Eagle-eyed Apex Legends players spotted what they believed to be a new buff for Loba, after it was spotted in the Fight or Fright trailer. Despite hype levels off the charts for Loba’s addition in Season 5, her actual viability in gameplay never matched up. Partly this is because her teleport ability essentially didn’t work for months on World’s Edge. That did get fixed eventually, but it still hasn’t been enough for Loba to break into the top tier picks, and Respawn are definitely aware. A slight buff was added in the Aftermarket event update, but it may not have gone far enough. Loba now starts the match with her ultimate at 50% charge, and increased the range for her loot finding abilities. But, another, possibly more meaningful buff, seemed to be teased in the trailer. Loba buff in trailer Featuring prominently in the Fight or Fright event trailer, Loba at one point throws her bracelet to teleport, and very observant fans have noticed a significant change in the animation. When her teleport is complete, Loba’s bracelet no longer spins in front of her, cutting out vital seconds before she’s able to be gun up, ready to fight again. You can see a side-by-side comparison of the difference in the clip below, thanks to @noxlotl: https://twitter.com/noxlotl/status/1318580413103628291 Unfortunately, Respawn have since confirmed to Dexerto that this is not in fact a planned buff for Loba nction in gameplay, and was just for trailer purposes. This might seem like a minor change, but it would promote Loba’s ability to be used more often for attacking plays, rather than simply running away when low on health. Being ready to fire again faster would mean you could teleport behind an enemy player, and actually have a chance of killing them before they turn round due to the sound cue. Whether Loba gets a different buff in Season 7 remains to be seen.

  • Post Malone wants to play Apex Legends with xQc and Trainwreck: “Spread the word” – Dexerto

Post Malone wants to play Apex Legends with xQc and Trainwreck: “Spread the word” YouTube: Full Send Podcast / Twitch: xQc / Twitch: Trainwreckstv / Respawn EntertainmentOn his recent Twitch stream popular rapper Post Malone expressed genuine interest in collaborating and playing Apex Legends with streamers Félix ‘xQc’ Lengyel and Tyler ‘Trainwreck’ Niknam, urging others to “spread the word”. Post Malone’s love of Apex Legends is well-known, with the star musician often hopping on Twitch to stream a game or two. He recently started a collaboration with Respawn Entertainment by streaming Apex Legends for his event, Gaming for Love. All the proceeds from this series of Twitch Livestreams go towards charity, with Respawn fronting a $10,000 donation for each charity. During his first live stream of the charity event though, Post Malone said he wants to get more stars onboard, and who better to target on Twitch than xQc and Trainwreck? “We gotta get xQc in the private lobby,” he said during his first charity stream. As he contemplates the idea of a collab, the tryhard gamer in Post Malone begins to show. “Is xQc any good? I wonder.” The rapper continues to ponder the idea, growing rather fond of the idea of collaboration. “I’m tryna get Trainwrecks in here too. Just spread the f**ckin’ word.” Post Malone’s Gaming for Love live stream event isn’t a one day thing — the star is streaming for a whole week so there’s still time to get a trio going with the two Twitch stars in this event. If Post Malone successfully brings xQc and Trainwreck on his charity stream, it’d make for some rather entertaining and charitable content. However, it probably won’t just be limited to this one occurrence — Post will be back. If you want to tune into the rapper’s Gaming for Love streams, check out the exact times in our hub here.

  • Post Malone signs Apex Legends fan’s Octane Funko at concert – Dexerto

Post Malone signs Apex Legends fan’s Octane Funko at concert Twitter: Post Malone, Electronic ArtsWhile in attendance at a Post Malone concert, an Apex Legends fan had the rapper sign their Octane Funko Pop figure. Post Malone and Apex aren’t an unlikely combination by any stretch of the imagination. The performer expressed his love for the battle royale several months ago, claiming at the time that he wasn’t especially good at it. However, he later proved himself wrong while pulling off some impressive tricks during a charity stream on Twitch. Better still, a series of these events – all centered on Apex – saw Post Malone raise more than $200,000 for causes such as Human Rights Watch and The Trevor Project. Post Malone signs Apex Legends figure for fan While attending Post Malone’s Seattle, Washington concert this past weekend, Reddit user ohyeahcoolstuff had the rapper sign a collectible item. Instead of Post Malone-specific merchandise, the star scrawled his John Hancock across an Apex Legends Funko Pop, specifically the Octane vinyl figure. Someone snapped a shot of the moment from the crowd, with Post Malone looking all too pleased by the exchange. According to a subsequent post from the Redditor, “he said ‘f—, that’s so dope,’ when he saw it.” While Post Malone doesn’t have a specific connection to Octane, the Redditor noted “he was running Octane” the first time they watched him play on stream. Suffice it to say, an Octane Funko signed by Post Malone is an awesome collectible for someone to have in their collection. Apex Legends itself is still going strong, of course. Season 15 kicked off on November 1, introducing the Broken Moon map and Catalyst as a new playable hero.

  • Post Malone reveals he loves Apex Legends but isn’t good – Dexerto

Post Malone reveals he loves Apex Legends but isn’t good Instagram: @postmalone/Respawn EntertainmentAmerican singer, songwriter, and rapper Post Malone has revealed that he loves playing Apex Legends but he still needs to work on his in-game skills. It’s no secret that Apex Legends is one of the most popular FPS titles in the entire genre, with millions of players diving down into the Outlands every single day. For a lot of the community, there’s nothing better than heading onto Apex after a busy day to wind down, and it’s no different for a lot of mainstream celebrities. One of which is Post Malone, who revealed in a recent interview that Respawn’s battle royale is his main game of choice at the moment. While Post did make it clear that he loves beaming down opponents on Apex, he wasn’t afraid to admit that his skills still need sharpening. Post Malone enjoys playing Apex in his spare time When jumping into an Apex match, it’s hard to imagine that the enemy Wraith you just beamed down from a distance could be a celebrity, especially Post Malone. However, the famous rapper revealed in a recent interview that he loves playing Apex in his spare time and that he’s always “trying to body everybody” when he’s online. Unfortunately, he admitted that his attempts to dominate the Outlands don’t always go to plan with “16-year-old kids tea-bagging” him all the time. It’d be interesting to know which Legend Post Malone mains in-game, as it would reveal a lot about his playstyle and approach when looking for a win. However, another clip may have provided the answer as he can be seen showing off his Wingman skills in the Firing Range with Bloodhound. Not only that, he appears to have a Pathfinder figurine next to his setup, so it’s possible he’s a fan of the Forward Scout. As the interview clips were quickly posted to the Apex Legends subreddit, it wasn’t long before the community began to react to them, with lots of players expressing how they’d love to play a match with him. “Imagine getting posty as your teammate someday man that’s gonna be a great time,” one user said, with another joking about being on the receiving of Post’s rifle in a match: “Imagine getting beamed by Post”. Either way, it’s great to see that Post loves playing Apex and who knows, you may even get matched with him in a squad if you’re lucky.

  • Post Malone proves his Apex Legends skills with flashy squad wipe – Dexerto

Post Malone proves his Apex Legends skills with flashy squad wipe WikiMedia Commons/RespawnPost Malone once again proved his skills in Apex Legends as he put his team on his back and delivered a pretty impressive squad wipe on Olympus. Plenty of celebrities and influential faces have spoken openly about their love of gaming over the last few years, but some, like Post Malone, have taken it to whole new levels. The singer-songwriter hasn’t been shy in talking about his love of Apex Legends, and has even dove into the Twitch streaming side of things, linking up with the likes of iiTzTimmy both inside of the Apex Games and in real life as well. On top of that, he’s even invested in Envy Gaming on the esports side of things. While his Twitch streams can be pretty infrequent, the rapper kicked off his link up with Respawn and a few familiar faces to host a charity stream on July 18, and while he raised a nice chunk of change, Post also got to style on a few opponents. Post Malone dominates Apex legends squad in Twitch stream The rapper, who is hosting a series of streams to benefit a number of different charities, took to Apex for a few hours during his first stream, and immediately set about rolling the competition. One highlight, though, caught the eyes of fans when Posty and his teammates decided to full rush an enemy squad who were playing the edge of the zone. The rapper’s trio burst into the fight off the back of a Valkyrie rocket barrage and Octane jump pad, but it was his skills with the R-99 and Wingman that impressed fans. While he was unsure about the aggressive tactic at first, Post quickly, and impressively, ripped through two of the three opposing enemies with pinpoint accurate shots before getting the easy clean-up on the third enemy who had taken significant damage from his teammates. With his team tasting the sweet taste of success in the fight, Post let out an emphatic cry of “let’s go!” before restocking off the fallen foes’ stack of deathboxes. It feels pretty unlikely that Post will swap his succesful music career for a shot at the ALGS anytime soon, but he’s certainly got the skill – and the passion – to match some high-ranking players.

Fans of the 26-year-old rapper will know that he was stacking up lots of Crafting Metals and Apex Coins waiting for Season 12 to launch on February 8. A clip shared to social media before the update went live revealed he had over 376,000 coins and nearly 500,000 metals to splash on skins. Quite the warchest, some might say. Some prefer to play single-player titles to decompress from their work, and others you’ll actually find in a multiplayer setting. In the case of Post Malone, he hasn’t been shy about expressing his love for Apex Legends. The Grammy-winning artist has dipped his toes in different games over the years, but crediting Respawn’s battle royale for bringing back that “passion” for gaming. As a result, he’s streamed with some of the biggest names in the game and even gotten his own in-game event – which includes the Three Strikes LTM. So, he might just have some sway with the Apex devs. Post Malone asks Apex Legends devs for R301 & Pathfinder buffs Well, that’s what 100 Thieves star Timothy ‘iiTzTimmy’ An is hoping anyway, as he used the singer-songwriter to make a plea to Respawn about making some buffs. “You’re the only one that can save us. Tell them to buff the R301 and Pathfinder again,” he said to Posty as they streamed together. And, naturally, the ‘Circles’ artist didn’t miss a beat in abiding by that request. “Okay, hey! Hey, will you guys buff the 301 and Pathfinder again? And they have to do it, that’s what I heard,” he said, pretending to shout upstairs to a dev team. Both the R301 and Pathfinder have taken some nerfs in the past, but it’s the recon legend who has suffered more. The 301 had its damage decreased a few seasons back, but it was hardly fatal as it was still in line with the R99. In Season 19, the rifle is in the crafting rotation, which is always viewed as a nerf by some given it’s no longer on the floor. Though, it’s hardly a weak weapon and we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

  • Post Malone explains why he prefers Apex Legends over Warzone or Fortnite – Dexerto

Post Malone explains why he prefers Apex Legends over Warzone or Fortnite Respawn/YouTube: Full Send PodcastPost Malone might be one of the biggest musical artists in the world, but he’s made no secret of the fact that he’s a huge gamer, with his current game of choice being battle royale hit Apex Legends. Post Malone has spoken about his love for Apex Legends in the past, as well as being a long-time Call of Duty player and an investor in Dallas-based esports organization Envy. He’s happily leaning into his gaming life these days, speaking about it in interviews and even dipping into Twitch streaming from time to time. With his latest album, Twelve Carat Toothache, storming the charts, you might think Posty would have other things to discuss, but he’s back talking about Apex again. In his appearance on the NELK Boys’ Full Send podcast, it didn’t take long for Post Malone to get onto the subject of Respawn’s battle royale title, professing his love for it. After being asked why he likes Apex over competitors such as Warzone and other FPS’, he explained: “Fortnite never stuck out to me because I don’t want 12-year-olds cranking 90s on me and literally making me throw my monitor across the room. “I would play Warzone, and Call of Duty, I was just never a BR guy because I’m not that good at them. But something about Apex, I just started playing it and I really, really enjoyed it.” Timestamp 13:15 He went on to say how rewarding it felt when you play well in Apex, suggesting he might not feel the same from other games, especially the battle royales that he mentioned. There has been an ever-shifting power struggle between those three key battle royale titles, with each of them commanding dominance over the others at different times. For the last 18 months or so, though, Posty only has time for one of them, and it’s Apex Legends that reigns supreme for him.

  • Post Malone explains why he doesn’t like the Flatline in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Post Malone explains why he doesn’t like the Flatline in Apex Legends NELKAmerican singer, songwriter, and rapper Post Malone has explained why he doesn’t like the Flatline Assault Rifle in Apex Legends. Over the years, Respawn has added countless new weapons to the game including the 30-30 Repeater, Bocek Bow, and CAR SMG. Despite this, a lot of the OG guns that have been available since the release of Apex are still extremely popular, with one of them being the iconic Flatline. While the Flatline is a lot of players’ favorite weapon thanks to its steady recoil and consistent damage, Post Malone has revealed that he’s not a fan of the heavy ammo AR. Talking to iiTzTimmy on a recent stream, he explained why he prefers to use other guns over the Flatline in Season 13. Post Malone doesn’t like using the Flatline in Apex Legends During a recent stream with iiTzTimmy, Post Malone decided to share his opinion on the iconic Flatline, and it’s safe to say the rapper isn’t impressed with the gun’s TTK. After using the weapon, Post asked Timmy “what happened to the Flatline”, as he remembered the damage being signifcantly better a few seasons ago. To him, the weapon just doesn’t “feel as good” as it used to, leading him to go for other alternatives instead and of course, his favorite Wingman. It’s possible Post is noticing the slight damage reduction nerf that hit the Flatline back in Season 12, with its base damage being decreased from 19 to 18. Topic starts at 4:21 Whether you agree or disagree with Post about the Flatline, weapon choice in Apex all comes down to preference and experience with a specific gun. It might not work for Posty, but the Flatline shows no signs of slowing down as one of the game’s most popular picks.

  • Post Malone explains why Apex Legends brought back his love for video games – Dexerto

Post Malone explains why Apex Legends brought back his love for video games Twitch: PostmaloneissocoolPost Malone was the star of the show on Twitch when he teamed up with iitzTimmy for a session of Apex Legends, and it turns out he really is a big fan of the game, and it even got him back into gaming in general. The nine-time Grammy nominee has always been into gaming, and even has a Twitch channel with over 400,000 followers – although he forgot the password and had to stream on a second account for his Apex session. But, with the busy life of being an international music superstar, his time to game has been cut down, and he even stopped for a while. However, Apex Legends managed to bring him back to his (very expensive) PC setup. Previously, Post had been known to be a big Call of Duty fan, and dived into Warzone many times. However, he stopped playing altogether, and now Apex has acquired all of his attention. Post Malone loves Apex Legends During his stream with Timmy, where he was impressively solid gameplay-wise (despite some questionable Wingman shots), Malone explained his passion for Apex. “There was no game that really, like, made we want to play video games,” he explained. With his interest in Warzone and other games no longer keeping his attention. “[Apex Legends] has really brought back my passion for gaming.” In addition to playing the game, he also watches streamers and YouTubers, name-dropping TSM player Imperial Hal and Japanese streamer Crylix as his favorites. https://twitter.com/FxxkBxxz/status/1496984857058377728 But, despite his love for Apex – and the 200,000 Apex coins on his account – Post Malone still suffers the same issues as the rest of us while playing, including the ever-reliable. audio issues. Even Post Malone gets no audio in Apex 😔 pic.twitter.com/MZrlL3EKwA — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) February 24, 2022 Hopefully we’ll see Post back on Twitch with more Apex gameplay in the future, maybe teaming up with some of his other favorite streamers on the platform too.

  • Post Malone 1v1s aceu in Apex Legends and is left speechless: “I can’t hit him” – Dexerto

Post Malone 1v1s aceu in Apex Legends and is left speechless: “I can’t hit him” Respawn Entertainment/Instagram: @postmalone/Twitch: aceuPost Malone and Brandon ‘aceu’ Winn decided to 1v1 in Apex Legends during their joint stream, and it’s safe to say the world-famous rapper was impressed with the streamer’s mechanics. It’s well known that Post Malone is a massive fan of Apex Legends and certainly isn’t afraid to open his wallet when it comes to cosmetics, showcasing a total of 190,000 Apex Coins and an unbelievable 430,000 Crafting Metals back in February on stream. Of course, the rapper isn’t just a skin collector, he’s demonstrated a lot of skill in-game and has even been grouping up with a few popular Apex streamers. One of them is aceu, who streamed with Post on the first day of his charity event week on July 18. As well as taking on the competition in BR, the pair also decided to 1v1 in the Firing Range, and it’s clear Post was impressed by aceu’s mechanics. Post Malone stunned by aceu’s movement mechanics During Post Malone’s July 19 stream with aceu, the pair decided to put their skills to the test and 1v1 in the Firing Range. Equipped with a Peacekeeper and Wingman, aceu easily executed Post in the first round, landing nearly every single shot. In the second battle, Post put up more of a fight and got off to a great start, taking aceu down to low health. Unfortunately, aceu’s strafing and mechanics allowed him to dodge nearly all of the rapper’s bullets. Stunned by aceu’s movement, Post started to panic, and in the end, aceu managed to take home the victory: “I can’t hit him, he’s so fast”. It’s no surprise that Post was beaten by aceu given how talented the streamer is at Apex, but it was still great to see both of them take on the challenge. After having such a great start to the second 1v1, it’s definitely possible for Post to take a round of aceu, so hopefully the pair battle against each other again in a future stream

  • Popular Rampart buff idea will never happen despite Apex Legends woes, devs say – Dexerto

Popular Rampart buff idea will never happen despite Apex Legends woes, devs say Respawn EntertainmentRampart continues to be one of Apex Legends’ least popular characters despite plenty of buffs. The community has called on Respawn to boost the power of her passive to increase her play rate, but developers say those changes won’t fix her issues. Rampart’s static identity in Apex Legends saw the Base of Fire quickly fade into the background after her release in Season 6. Because the battle royale is so dynamic, you can’t just sit in one place and hope for the best. However, Rampart has been getting some help from Respawn as of late. Her minigun, affectionately named Sheila, is now mobile, which has done wonders for her play rate. She also has a bit of extra power with her Amped Cover too. The one part of her kit Respawn hasn’t really looked at is her passive, Modded Loader. It does increase her reload speed and magazine size with LMGs, but players have called for it to be extended to more guns to make her even more viable. According to developers, that’s not where extra power for Rampart can be found: “Rampart’s identity is built around LMGs, and her passive was meant to reflect that synergy and provide incentive when opting into that style,” developer Devan McGuire told players. “This topic has been discussed before, especially back when we were looking at ways to empower Rampart. But the passive was never the aspect holding her back so we opted to invest more in the core parts of her kit to bring meaningful change.” While the buffs ended up putting Rampart in a playable niche — not meta, but at least not terrible — there has still been calls for more changes, especially to her passive. Those won’t be coming any time soon though as Respawn wants to keep some sort of “meaningful choice” to her weapon loadouts. You can choose between a shotgun or another LMG as a secondary, but the trade-off is losing out on her passive somewhat. “If you just get it on all the good weapons, it doesn’t carry the same meaning — you’re just always better, and you still always pick up your favorite R-301 like you do with other Legends,” McGuire continued. “If it’s tied to LMGs, they are special, and you make an active decision to wield a Rampart special. We felt that choice was important to maintain. “Could this passive be extended in other ways in the future to provide more value? Perhaps. But at the moment, we’re satisfied with how Rampart is playing and are not looking to expand the power of the passive.” It’s the same for Mad Maggie with shotguns and Vantage with sniper rifles; “they’re meant to be a boon for players who like that playstyle,” McGuire expanded, but they shouldn’t be used as a balancing lever. If Rampart was to fall far below expectations from here on out in Apex Legends, the developers will still look at new ways to buff her, but that won’t be by adding more weapons to her special arsenal.

  • Popular Apex Legends Crypto rework would drastically improve his abilities – Dexerto

Popular Apex Legends Crypto rework would drastically improve his abilities Respawn EntertainmentFirst introduced in Apex Legends Season 3, Crypto remains a mostly situational Legend due to his abilities. A Reddit post by ‘u/Cryptic_Crane72D1’ provides several ideas on how Respawn could buff the character to improve his viability. Balancing all of the characters in Apex Legends remains a daunting task for the team at Respawn. The developer often explains their thought process for implementing buffs and nerfs, and even confirmed some Legends will never be viable at the highest level of play. Despite this, the Apex community continues to provide feedback on how their favorite characters can be improved. In a Reddit post by u/Cryptic_Crane72D1, this Crypto player provides the devs with a few ideas on how to improve the Legend’s viability and pick rate. Crypto’s passive ability rework Crypto’s passive is his Surveillance Drone, which allows the player and their teammates to spot enemies marked by the Drone. The concept creator argues this is not a true passive because it is actually tied to Crypto’s tactical, and suggests two alternatives to help improve the kit. Read More: Apex Legends stats for weapon damage per mag – The user’s “Off the Grid” idea would allow the ‘Surveillance Expert’ to partially avoid detection by other Legends’ abilities (like Bloodhound’s scan). Instead of highlighting him, enemies would see a special notification letting them know an enemy was detected without revealing their location. Another idea would allow him to see how many squads are nearby at all times instead of having to scan Champion banners with his drone. The player admits this particular ability could be too powerful, but still thinks it’s a way to potentially improve the character. Crypto’s tactical ability rework Crypto’s tactical ability revolves around his Drone, allowing him to fly around the map and survey enemies, pick up teammate’s banners, and mark potential threats for his squad. However, while he is in Drone mode, the Legend cannot move until he exits the Drone. According to the Redditor, using the Drone interrupts the flow of combat and prevents players from contributing in team fights. To solve this, he proposes an alternative that would speed up the process and allow the character to remain mobile while using his tactical. The proposed solution would allow players to control the Drone remotely, but also deploy it without entering into a separate mode. Players could toss out their bot to scan a specific area while staying mobile and avoiding any major separation from their team. Crypto’s ultimate ability rework The final issue outlined in the post relates to Crypto’s ultimate ability: his Drone’s EMP blast. While the EMP can be a powerful ability, the user still thinks it’s too difficult for him to deploy the blast effectively then follow up with his team to attack. The proposed solution would be allowing the Surveillance Expert to deploy the EMP blast without using his Drone. This would be done by separating the ultimate from his Drone and giving him a separate EMP grenade – something Respawn showed off in the character’s reveal trailer. Making his ultimate into a throwable would allow his EMP blast to be deployed without entering Drone mode. This ties back to the Redditor’s idea of making the character more mobile and able to contribute during team battles. The post has been well received on the Apex Legends subreddit, gathering 1.5k upvotes at the time of writing. Many of the responses were positive and agreed that Crypto’s current kit makes him too slow and stops him from fighting alongside his team. While most of the responses were positive, there were some criticisms as well. One user responded said, “How about we buff actual characters that need it. Rampart literally has the lowest pickrate,” and another pointed out the respawning advantages Crypto has with his Drone. Respawn has yet to comment on the post, but have already said they are looking at ways to improve him in future seasons. With Legends like Bloodhound being buffed to the point of almost constant use, the Surveillance Expert could be in for the same treatment at some point in the future.

  • Players criticize “shameless” Apex Legends over $10 spray – Dexerto

Players criticize “shameless” Apex Legends over $10 spray Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have voiced their disbelief after seeing a Loba holospray listed for 1000 Apex Coins in the Store, which works out at the equivalent of $10 in real money. Plenty of battle royale titles have sprays in their cosmetics lineups, whether it’s Fortnite or CSGO, and they’re usually considered to be ‘filler’ items. Even in Apex Legends, where players get futuristic holosprays, they’re still not that popular. While most of these holosprays can be unlocked in Apex Packs or by spending Crafting Metals, they do sometimes appear in the Store, where players can use the premium Apex Coins currency to purchase items if they just can’t wait for them. This might be common practice for desirable skins and new playable Legends, but players were shocked to see Loba’s ‘Make It Look Easy’ holospray with an original price of 1000 Apex Coins in the Store’s featured section on August 11, 2021. For reference, that’s the equivalent of $10 in real money, and it’s more than the cosmetics-filled Battle Pass (950 Apex Coins) or new playable Legends (750 Apex Coins) cost to unlock. While the holospray is currently marked as 50% off, at a still-expensive 500 Apex Coins, many players have taken to the Apex Legends subreddit to shared their disbelief that a holospray could ever cost that much in the first place. “This is the only game where a spray can cost just as much as a legendary gun/legend skin. It’s… crazy,” said one Apex Legends player. Another added, “F**king shameless. I love Apex and the devs but the store is a joke.” A third Reddit user wrote: “Fortnite and Warzone may have packages priced the same as Apex but you damn sure get more than just one skin and one insignificant item.” The pricing seems even more bizarre when compared to the ‘Code Red Bonus Bundle’ which appeared alongside the holospray. That one offers an Epic skin, a P2020 skin, and 2 Apex Packs for just 500 Apex Coins. Of course, no one has to buy the holospray, and it’s not like it actually affects your performance in the game. But it’s easy to see why Apex Legends players have been left confused over the inflated pricing.

  • Perfect Wattson buff idea would rework her Ultimate in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Perfect Wattson buff idea would rework her Ultimate in Apex Legends Respawn/EAAs Apex Legends Season 11 gets ever closer, fans of Respawn’s battle royale have once again floated some ideas for a Wattson buff, including tweaking her hitbox and Interception Pylon ultimate. For a few seasons now, Apex Legends players have wanted to see Wattson get a little bit of love from the developers in the form of a buff. The Static Defender has slipped down the popularity charts, becoming one of the least-used legends in the battle royale, even though Respawn maintains that she is actually pretty powerful compared to other characters. There had been claims that she’d be buffed in Season 10, and receive some hitbox changes, but that hasn’t happened to this point. So, players have looked towards Season 11 as a way to “fix” her and get Wattson some highly sought-after buffs. One of the buff ideas getting support comes from Redditor ToasterLunch, who suggested that Wattson’s hitbox should be tweaked to be like Lifeline’s and that her Pylon ultimate should be reworked just a touch. In their concept, the Apex fan suggests reworking the Ultimate ability so that it no longer swallows any equipment thrown by Wattson’s teammates. Though, any grenades from the Static Defender would still be destroyed. Additionally, they propose that Wattson could place the Pylon down and then move it, similar to how Rampart moves her fences. Though, to balance this, they suggest that Wattson could not start charging her Ultimate until the current Pylon is destroyed. With the ideas being pretty balanced and Wattson being in need of some love, players are intrigued by it. “I like the movable pylon, I always see Wattson placing a pylon and pushing past it. Being able to take it with you could fill a huge gap in her kit,” one said. However, as Respawn has pointed out before, they can’t just take fan ideas and implement them. They have to change them in some way. Though, fans are clearly desperate for a Wattson buff.

  • Perfect Octane buff would make him a team player in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Perfect Octane buff would make him a team player in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentOne Apex Legends player is tired of Octane’s self-serving abilities, and so has devised a unique overhaul of the adrenaline junkie that would see him become much more of a team player. Since his introduction way back in Season 1, Octane has been a fairly popular legend thanks to his incredible speed and the unique ability to heal when he is not taking damage. This allows him to continually stimulate his performance with adrenaline, giving him a major, albeit temporary, speed buff. However, despite his relative popularity, it has been widely acknowledged that the abilities of other legends are far more beneficial to a team. Lifeline, for example, can heal members of her team very regularly, or can call in a care package to provide an armor upgrade. It seems like one Apex Legends fan has grown tired of Octane’s selfish abilities, devising an overhaul for the speedster to make him much more of a team player. The Octane main describes the legend’s ultimate as a less favorable version of Pathfinder’s zip-lines, as well as pointing out how dependent his tactical and passive are on one another. His current tactical is the stim-shot, while his passive enables him to heal the small portion of damage done by the stim. In order to improve Octane’s ultimate, the proposal sees it change from a ‘Jump Pad’ to a ‘Launch Pad’. This would allow those using the pad to re-deploy and properly glide in mid-air, similar to dropping in at the start of a game. This buff to Octane’s ultimate ability would enable players to completely reposition during a skirmish, gaining the higher ground where they previously might not have been able to. Similarly, it would enable massively increased mobility around the map, similar to the existing balloons that allow re-deploy. However, players would no longer have to risk their lives in order to make it to a balloon and then scale up it. Finally, the player proposes a buff to Octane’s passive. The ability to heal would remain the same, but the adrenaline-junkie would not be slowed by enemy equipment, such as Wattson’s fences or Caustic’s traps. This would keep his speed as a major counter, giving him a wide buff against a number of legends. Despite the awesome buff concept, it is not entirely clear whether Respawn are considering a buff for Octane. It is certainly true that the speed demon’s abilities are more self-serving than other legends, but this may have been a conscious choice from Respawn. We’ll have to wait and see how they play this one.

  • Perfect guide on how to dominate late-game situations in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Perfect guide on how to dominate late-game situations in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentIn order to win matches in Apex Legends, you must be the last one standing after the final phase of the game, and here is a full guide on how to go about doing just that. Every single match in Apex Legends is split into three phases – early, middle, and late – and the strongest players are the ones that know how to play well in all three. The late-game phase, which is pretty much when there are 10 or less players left on the map, is arguably the most difficult, because every remaining player usually has a strong loadout, which means that that skill plays a much bigger role than RNG and difference in loot. With this in mind, YouTuber ‘Zeroga Kamico’ has created an in-depth tutorial on how to go about winning late-game situations, exploring all of the the ins-and-outs and subtleties of the final phase of the match. According to his video, players can find themselves in one of these four situations in the late-game, each one requiring a different playstyle and strategy. Having both high ground and the Ring – Having the Ring but not high ground – Having the high ground but no Ring – Not having either high ground or the Ring – Why having high ground is so important The reason why having high ground in late-game situations is so important is because it offers your team cover, clear lines of sight, and a huge advantage during gunfights, since it’s much harder to shoot down at someone than up. Teams that are able to secure the high ground and be in the Ring will then be able to spot all other teams and players and be able to prevent them from comfortably entering the safe zone. How to survive without high ground In situations where you don’t have high ground but are still in the Ring, you have to harass enemies with grenades and suppression fire, pinning them down and forcing them to waste their time. If executed correctly, this strategy will buy your team enough time to survive until the Ring starts moving, during which you can engage the enemy again and/or take the high ground for the next circle. However, not having the high ground or the Ring poses a much more difficult scenario. The most thing is to make sure to not be spotted by enemies until you can stealth your way into the Ring, at which point you can simply follow the strategy above. It’s important to note that Legends can play a big role in these late-game situations, so don’t forget to use your Legend’s abilities to their fullest potential, while making sure not to waste them. Good luck!

  • Perfect Apex Legends change would give Octane a much-needed buff – Dexerto

Perfect Apex Legends change would give Octane a much-needed buff RespawnAn Apex Legends player has devised a clever concept for Octane that would see the character receive some seemingly much-needed changes. As had now become customary with the start of each new season for Apex Legends, Respawn Entertainment adds a new character to the mix in order to shake things up. The first came in the form of Octane, a daredevil that has the ability to run faster and jump further than other legends. Though, since being introduced all the way back in season one, the legend hasn’t changed all that much. His Swift Mend ability still allows him to regenerate health, Stim lets him run pretty quickly, and the launch pad gives teams an added level of mobility. Yet, some players feel Octane needs a change. In a post to the Apex Legends subreddit, Reddit user NizzyDeniro pitched their idea for tweaks to how Octane currently works. Under their idea, the daredevil legend would be able to move a touch faster, though that would come with an added second of cooldown. Yet, perhaps the biggest idea for a change comes in the form of an additional passive ability. Apex characters currently have one passive each but in NizzyDeniro’s idea, Octane would be granted a secondary passive that would allow him to have “no movement slowdown” while having a gun out. Anyone who has ever played as Octane will appreciate that change considering you can burn a Stim and not have the same movement speed if you’re flustered and can’t holster your weapon. Of course, plenty of players were supportive of the ideas put forward, with others even noting how the character could be changed further. “Gun runner was a perk in Titanfall. It wouldn’t be that hard to add,” said user Mirage_Main. Another, Cypher1993, added: “Love all of this, and would suggest quieting his stim use to enemies near by. It’s an instant give away.” Now, while these fan concepts are usually well received by the community, it can be a different story for the developers who will have the own plans for each legend. Whether or not they’ll take these ideas into account remains to be seen but Respawn might not be too far off the mark if they decide to finally update Octane.

  • Perfect Apex Legends buff would make Revenant even deadlier – Dexerto

Perfect Apex Legends buff would make Revenant even deadlier EASince Revenant’s explosive entrance in Season 4, the Synthetic Nightmare has been a somewhat underwhelming Legend in the Apex Games – but this buff could help him compete against the likes of Wraith and Pathfinder in no time. Revenant made a dramatic entrance into the Apex Games, after assassinating Forge during an interview with Outlands Television host Lisa Stone. After taking down Forge, the deadly simulacrum showcased a variety of abilities during the Assimilation cinematic trailer — hyping fans up for his debut in Season 4. However, fans were left disappointed when they finally got their hands on Revenant, due to his lacklustre ability set — which pales in comparison to some of the better ranked Legends. Although, one Apex Legends player has drafted the ultimate Revenant buff which could allow the Synthetic Nightmare to compete with the likes of Wraith and Pathfinder. The Reddit user has bumped the simulacrum’s Passive, Tactical and Ultimate ability while also swapping out one of their Passive perks. By swapping out Low Profile for Fortified, incoming bullet damage would be reduced 15%, while also not slowing Revenant down — a perk both Caustic and Gibraltar share. Moreover, Dicephalon also recommended that the simulacrum’s ‘Death Totem’ Ultimate should be buffed significantly. Arguably the most important aspect of the buff, however, is the ability to spawn with 30 health points (as opposed to the current 1 HP granted). This would counter the current Caustic meta, where the Toxic Trapper can place a Nox Gas Trap by the Death Totem to trigger when players respawn, killing any player that returns to the totem. While the post received plenty of upvotes from the community, the ability to negate enemy pings (as part of Revenant’s Tactical buff) is something that wasn’t met with open arms. Given that one of Apex Legends’ most attractive features is its non-verbal communication system, the ability to nullify that with the use of a Legend would be overpowered. And, as another Reddit user commented, would put players with microphones at a severe advantage. That aside, Dicephalon’s Revenant buff concept would be a well-balanced adjustment and would give the Synthetic Nightmare a nudge in the right direction.

  • Perfect Apex Legends buff would make Mirage’s decoys more effective – Dexerto

Perfect Apex Legends buff would make Mirage’s decoys more effective Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has come up with a clever way to make Mirage’s Decoy ability slightly more effective by allowing the bamboozling legend to send out more than one holographic duplicate. With Apex approaching its one year anniversary of launching, Respawn Entertainment recently dropped the Grand Soiree Event, adding some new content in the form of multiple limited-time modes. While plenty of players have been diving into these modes, with some like Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek even making his long-awaited return, others have still been hard at work trying to put forward their ideas to change the game on a bigger scale – airing their ideas for changes to game’s roster of characters. We’ve seen new ideas for Caustic and Lifeline, as well as a possible revamp for the revive system, but the newest clever concept revolves around Mirage – specifically, his current decoy tactical. Posted to the Apex Legends subreddit, Reddit user Lucas_Cant_Take_It suggested that the legend should “be able to create a couple of decoys at once” as it would be “a lot harder to figure out which one is the real one if there are four mirages running around.” As it stands, the character’s ‘Psyche Out’ ability allows him to summon a hologram duplicate that runs in a straight line towards where the actual player was targeted from. That has its own positives – mainly being able to get a better feel for where the enemies are – but players agreed withe the Redditor’s take on things. “Let’s be honest. We all think this,” replied Rifleboy18, before other commenters chimed in with their own simple buffs for legends like Wattson. However, another commenter, Piter_neo_PL, took things one step further by revamping the character’s ability set to revolve around better decoys. For example, the legend’s passive ability could be changed so that you are able to create a decoy while reviving a teammate – potentially causing confusion to other players. Comment byu/Lucas_Cant_Take_It from discussion inapexlegends Of course, Respawn will likely have their own ideas for what needs adding in the form of buffs and nerfs for characters – especially with Season 4 right around the corner. Whether or not Mirage will be reworked in the same vein as the Redditor’s ideas remains to be seen, but it certainly seems to be popular with some fans.

  • Perfect Apex Legends buff would make Mirage’s decoy useful again – Dexerto

Perfect Apex Legends buff would make Mirage’s decoy useful again RespawnAn Apex Legends player has devised a pretty clever idea to give Mirage’s decoy ability a bit of a buff so that it actually bamboozles enemies. Like fans of plenty of other games, Apex Legends players have been coming up with their own ideas to change the game – be it through character tweaks, weapons changes, and even mocking up entire new Legends. While Respawn Entertainment has tipped their hat to a few of the ideas, and perhaps even used a few as inspiration for their new updates, the developers do have their own plans for the battle royale. However, a new idea has reared its head that they may want to consider that would give Mirage a bit more power. Called the Smart Decoy 2.0, the idea was posted to the Apex Legends subreddit by Reddit user XenotheBoi, who laid out a range of changes to the bamboozling legends ability. Instead of the decoy just running in a straight line and not really throwing anyone off your scent, with the Redditor’s idea, the decoy Mirage would do a lot more to make it seem a bit more real. For example, XenotheBoi noted that the character could run through a Wraith portal, but instead of phasing to the other side, they’d disappear behind the initial portal – just to make it seem like they’d teleported through. Some players praised the idea but noted that it could be tweaked even further, just to really help give the decoy a bit more power. “Not bad, maybe have him actually holding the gun you had too,” commented one player. Another added: “These are real good but the one thing they need to do if they don’t use these, is make the decoys eat a few bullets before they’re destroyed.” Of course, any potential change to the character will come from the developers themselves, so it’s difficult to gauge what they’re actually going to do. We’ll just have to wait and see if they decided to take this clever idea on board or if they’re already cooking up something similar.

  • Peacekeeper nerfed in Apex Legends update – November 22 patch notes – Dexerto

Peacekeeper nerfed in Apex Legends update – November 22 patch notes Respawn Entertainment have pushed out a weapon balancing update in Apex Legends nerfing the Peacekeeper shotgun, following complaints that it was too powerful. The Peacekeeper had been under the spotlight of controversy lately in Apex Legends, with many players alleging that the weapon had become far too overpowered. The player-base had been asking Respawn to nerf the weapon for several weeks now, but their demands had seemingly fallen on deaf ears, as the shotgun continued to wreak havoc on World’s Edge. However, on November 22, Respawn caught the community off-guard with a previously unannounced mini-update released specifically to nerf Peacekeeper. It appears that this balancing adjustment was pushed through directly in-game, so players will not need to download an update to see the changes in effect. Peacekeeper nerfed in November 22 patch This November 22 balancing adjustment included two changes for the Peacekeeper, both of them reducing its effectiveness in some capacity. Its rechamber time, the time it takes for a round to be loaded into the chamber, has been increased from 1.1 seconds to 1.2. Meanwhile, the headshot multiplayer has been decreased, with the boost going down from 1.5 to 1.25. There were no changes to the weapon’s damage or range, however, so it remains to be seen whether or not these nerfs will prove to be effective. Head’s up, Legends. We’ve just pushed a balance adjustment to the peacekeeper that does the following: 🔹Increased rechamber time: 1.1 -> 1.2 🔹Decreased head shot multiplier: 1.5 -> 1.25 pic.twitter.com/HsljjPZ4JC— Apex Legends (@PlayApex) November 22, 2019 Players got their wish, but is it enough? While it’s true that Respawn finally nerfed the Peacekeeper to fulfill the community’s request, some players are guarding their optimism with caution. Team Liquid star pro player Mendo replied to the announcement by claiming that “this is nowhere near enough,” and a lot of other comments on both Twitter and Reddit seem to be along that same tune. That said, the community shouldn’t be overly surprised if these changes prove to not be enough since Respawn have a track record of having to nerf weapons multiple times in the past before the changes actually make a difference. That was the case with the Wingman, the Alternator with the Disruptor, and, most recently, the Charge Rifle, which some may argue still needs another round of nerfs.

  • Peacekeeper ‘double pump’ glitch returns in Apex Legends Season 14 – Dexerto

Peacekeeper ‘double pump’ glitch returns in Apex Legends Season 14 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has always had its fair share of quirks when it comes to the engine the game is built upon, and many of its best mechanics are small exploits of that system. But some of these quirks are game-breakingly good. The ‘double pump’ glitch allows the Peacekeeper and Sentinel to chamber another round without having to go through the animation. It was in Apex Legends for a short time in the past and got patched out. Problem solved, right? Well, with the slew of changes in Apex Legends Season 14 and the various tweaks made to movement mechanics, this bug is back with a vengeance. Apex Legends ‘double pump’ glitch is back The bug was posted to Twitter by user Mokey, on August 18, showing that it’s once again possible to cancel the Peacekeeper’s lever animation and drastically increase its fire rate. Performing a double pump isn’t as easy as it looks. There’s a bit more to it than just shooting and swapping to your other weapon. Players have figured out that the steps required to perform this exploit go like this: (Shoot > reload > swap to secondary > swap back to PK/Sentinel) Considering that the Sentinel is mostly used at longer ranges and comes stock with Deadeye’s Tempo anyways, it isn’t too big a deal on the weapon. Hipfiring a little faster won’t do much for you. But… No attachments required The Peacekeeper is a whole different beast in capable hands with this exploit in the game. For players with fast hands, the PK’s base fire rate can be almost doubled. In early fights, the PK outright beats all other weapons now because it doesn’t need a shotgun bolt to perform. High level Apex Players will no doubt know how to use and abuse this exploit to give themselves a massive edge. As for what caused this bug to return, it’s really, really hard to say. But we do have some clues. Tap strafing was accidentally nerfed following some slight tweaks to Apex Legends’ movement systems, and high level players immediately noticed. Fortunately, Respawn rolled out a same-day update that fixed tap strafing with seemingly no issues. Seemingly. It’s difficult to say whether or not this small hotfix is what did it or if it was a change from the original Season 14 patch that no one noticed, but what matters is that the bug is back. Considering how strong this makes the Peacekeeper in capable hands, all we can do is hope that Respawn are able to identify the problem and roll out a speedy fix for this issue.

  • “Pay to win” Apex Legends heirloom gives buff to underused legends – Dexerto

“Pay to win” Apex Legends heirloom gives buff to underused legends Respawn/EAApex Legends players believe the Katar Artifact is “pay to win” as it now gives a buff to Rampart and Vantage’s ultimates that make you harder to spot. Like pretty much every multiplayer game these days, Apex Legends is deep into the cosmetics game. Log in, head to the Apex Store, and you’ll be greeted with a massive selection of items. The newest of which, though, are the Apex Artifacts. Just like the much sought-after Heirlooms, Artifacts are lore-based melees weapons. However, they also go a step beyond that. You can get a customizable deathbox skin too. Well, provided you’ve upgraded and unlocked the base, theme, power source variants, and the activation emote. The Katar is the only Artifact you can get your hands on. Yet, right now, that is good news for anyone who mains Rampart or Vantage. Despite their not-so-stellar pick rates, the Katar actually gives a buff to these two by making their ultimates invisible. That’s right, in Season 22, players have found a bug that allows anyone who wields the Katar with Rampart or Vantage to hide their ultimate – including the guns and their lasers. Yes, they’re impossible to spot as a result. Players have quickly labeled that as “pay to win,” seeing as getting your hands on a Katar is not cheap. “Wow, what a find, Pay 2 Win without a doubt,” one said. “Wait is this why I’ve been getting so many consecutive hits since the new season lmao, thought there was an unusually high number of people unaware that I was looking at them,” another added. “This explains why I’ve been aiming dead on someone with vantage and they just stood there and accepted it lol,” commented another. In the past, Respawn has acted quickly with regards to pay-to-win items. They adjusted the iron sight on the Splash Zone Flatline skin when that became problematic. But, we’ll have to wait and see on the Katar.

  • “Pay to win” Apex Legends emotes make you impossible to hit – Dexerto

“Pay to win” Apex Legends emotes make you impossible to hit Respawn/EAApex Legends players have raised concerns with a handful of emotes that appear to be “pay to win” as they make you pretty difficult to hit while gliding. As Apex Legends has gotten bigger and bigger over the last few years, Respawn Entertainment have gone heavy on the cosmetics side of things. They’ve added everything from character skins to weapon charms and even glide emotes over the last few years. Naturally, some of these cosmetics have come under fire with a complaint that they might hand players an advantage and be a little “pay to win” at times. While Respawn says that these cosmetics offer no competitive advantage, there are a handful of glide emotes that players have pointed at that make you pretty difficult to pick out of the sky – with one making you invisible for a few moments. Apex Legends skydive emotes prompt “pay to win” concerns These “pay to win” emotes were highlighted by Apex Legends YouTuber Skeptation, who noted that the biggest offenders are Wraith, Valkyrie, and Loba. “There are quite a few emotes that have been around for a while that you could call pay to win. The ‘Think Fast’ Wraith one jumps around even more than the Loba one (Flaunt It) and the Perpetual Motion even has times where you’re unhittable while you’re going through the portals,” the YouTuber said. “This gives a definite advantage if you’re flying down on top of enemies and it’s worth keeping in mind.” A handful of players backed up the claims that you’re tough to hit thanks to the emotes, noting they use them as a result. “I swear if they nerf the god damn SKY DIVE EMOTE I’m going to die of laughter,” said one. “It was obvious as soon as the animations were introduced, no?” added another. Others suggested that Respawn just needs to make it so a character’s hitbox remains in the middle of the emote, as if they’re not bouncing around. Though, it remains to be seen if the devs will make sweeping changes.

  • Patient Pathfinder player clutches Apex Legends round with zipline tricks – Dexerto

Patient Pathfinder player clutches Apex Legends round with zipline tricks Respawn EntertainmentOne Apex Legends player didn’t let the pressure get the best of them when they found themselves all alone at the end of the match as Pathfinder. Taking the W in a round of Apex Legends can be tough enough with a full team, but Reddit user bbyrne managed to pull it off thanks to a very smooth use of the robot warrior’s grapple cable. Pathfinder’s grapple allows him to reach places other characters might not be able to, but you don’t usually see it used quite in the way bbyrne did. As the final circle forms, bbyrne positions themselves high up on a rock in a place that probably only Pathfinder is able to reach. They put the grapple line out to basically be parallel to the ground and even though an enemy player sees them, they soon get distracted with the other players down below. Once all of the enemies down below are sufficiently distracted by one another, Path gets on the zipline and just hangs out there, changing their direction by jumping and just cruising back and forth. The strategy even seems immune to Gibraltar’s ultimate ability, which doesn’t manage to hit Pathfinder in the air at all. After the bombardment is over, the Pathfinder player drops off their line and moves in to finish off the last remaining player. Even though the Pathfinder grapple strategy is interesting in the end, the match comes down to a good old fashioned gunfight. So while this strategy might look very slick, players will still have to rely on their Apex gunplay skills to truely make it work.

  • Pathfinder’s voice actor plays Apex Legends matches in character and it’s amazing – Dexerto

Pathfinder’s voice actor plays Apex Legends matches in character and it’s amazing Twitter: @chrisedgerly / Respawn EntertainmentOn August 29, the voice actor for the Apex Legends character ‘Pathfinder’ Chris Edgerly posted a gameplay highlights video on YouTube, showing him act in character while playing the robot in matches. Apex Legends has a roster of unique characters that range from an interdimensional shifter to a mad scientist. But one of the most popular characters in the team-based battle royale is the colorful robot named Pathfinder. The scout character often quips optimistic voice lines, and sports a smiley face on the screen on his chest. But on August 29, fans were treated to a gameplay highlight video of the voice actor playing him in character. Playing as himself Jumping into the match, the voice actor selected his own character, which prompted the robot’s infamous voice line “Excellent, time to destroy more opponents” which Edgerly hilariously responded “Not if you’re me!” Read More: Apex Legends Voidwalker event – When one of his teammates left the match early, the voice actor cracked a joke “Boy, someone timed out. Did I offend them? I do that sometimes”. Then, after meeting an early death, he began to speak to his remaining teammate who he was spectating and said “I would root for you, but I got other ways to die” before leaving the match. Another hilarious moment was when the voice actor is hunkered down into a long range shootout with an opponent. After firing off multiple rounds and hitting the other player, he was forced to reload. During the reload animation, Pathfinder said “Reloading” except this time the voice actor followed that up with “take that asshole!” After disengaging from the fight, Edgerly laughed “Uh oh… I made him mad.” The voice actor had a blast as he continued to interact with all of the varied characters lines that pop up after interacting with in game items, weapons and after taking damage. Perhaps the most wholesome aspect of the video is him using the character to talk to his teammates, as they were surprised to find out that the actual Pathfinder was talking to them. Next time you see a Pathfinder in your match, you never know – it could be Chris Edgerly.

  • Pathfinder’s infinite grapple trick lets you farm free kills in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Pathfinder’s infinite grapple trick lets you farm free kills in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentPathfinder mains can make life a living hell for their enemies in Apex Legends, with the ‘infinite grapple’ trick allowing them to drag players around for free kills. Ever since Apex Legends first released, Pathfinder has been one of the most popular characters around. The MRVN bot is full of comedic one-liners, and his abilities are pretty decent to boot. Players who have mastered his grappling hook tactical ability are able to outplay their enemies in impressive fashion, as they can swing from spot to spot fairly easily. The grapple can also be used to deal damage to opponents, and also bring them closer to Pathfinder during gunfights. Though, there are ways to just ruin an enemies life with it too using the ‘infinite grapple.’ Apex Legends fan Dirty Skirty highlighted the trick on January 28, showing how Pathfinder can reel in an enemy and basically walk them around like a dog – with the enemy unable to do anything. All you need to do, really, is grapple an enemy towards you with the hook and twist about 45 degrees either to the left or right. By doing this, and moving against the grapple’s movement correction, you’ll be able to string the enemy along for quite some time. Alternatively, you can also grapple them towards you from behind a wall. If aimed right, the enemy will be shot into the wall and their climbing animation will be triggered – making them a sitting duck for the most part, and giving you an easy kill. As some players have pointed out, Dirty Skirty’s trick is quite a tough one to master. But, you can practice it in the Firing Range to get it down. You can also use it on downed enemies, dragging them away from their teammates, which could lure them into the open. So, the tactical possibilities are endless.

  • Pathfinder voice actor trolls Apex Legends players in game chat – Dexerto

Pathfinder voice actor trolls Apex Legends players in game chat Chris Edgerly (YouTube)Chris Edgerly, voice of the ever-optimistic MRVN robot in Apex Legends, has returned with another Pathfinder parody, and it’s hilarious. Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale boasts a diverse range of characters to select from. With each Legend sporting their own class of abilities, Apex Legends is unlike its counterparts in that character selection is pivotal to the outcome of a game. From a Toxic Trapper to a Holographic Trickster, each character comes with their own respective quirks that promote relatability, and ultimately leads to a selection bias. One fan-favorite is Pathfinder, whose cheery outlook on their mission to find their creator has left many hooked on the MRVN robot’s unique persona. Pathfinder’s voice actor, Chris Edgerly, has previously gained traction from fans of Apex Legends when he uploaded a gameplay video of him playing as his own character to his YouTube channel. Now, the charismatic voice actor has returned with a rib-tickling skit that leaves his teammates (yet again) speechless. Edgerly begins by mocking the shabby landscape of Slum Lakes by joking: “Wow, that’s the last music festival we have here.” He continues to mock the Mozambique, by staring at the shotgun and jesting “try not to step in that!” The voice actor even took to the Apex Legends subreddit, where he left a Pathfinder-esque comment: “I’m getting the feeling that it’s going to be darn near impossible to get myself into a squad of randoms that will come into a party and enable their audio without somehow thinking something is up. “But I can still enjoy the game and pick out a few highlights (or lowlights, if you’re concentrating on my gameplay) and share them with you, Friends!” The former stand-up comic has an extensive resume, as he’s previously appeared in popular video game franchises such as Call of Duty, Halo and Final Fantasy, while also voicing Mr. Waffle from The Simpsons. Alongside being a veteran voice actor, Edgerly frequently streams on Mixer while maintaining his YouTube channel.

  • Pathfinder trick in Apex Legends makes weapons completely silent – Dexerto

Pathfinder trick in Apex Legends makes weapons completely silent A new trick with Pathfinder allows you to fire certain weapons completely silently in Apex Legends, which could prove very useful in some situations. Despite being in its third season, players are still discovering lots of new tricks in Respawn’s battle royale game, some of which rely on certain bugs or glitches. This Pathfinder tactic almost certainly isn’t an intended use of his grapple, so it’s possible that it’s patched in a future update, but for now, it’s possible to do with relative ease. First, you will of course need to select Pathfinder, and you will be best trying this in training mode first, to get the hang of how to do it, before applying it in a real match. As shown by the trick’s originator, Reddit user u/dfliang, you will simply need to fire the grapple at the exact same time as shooting the weapon, in this case the single-fire R301. This will render the shot almost entirely silent, as shown at 1:14 in the video, where the player stands next to a friend doing it. Here, all that can be heard is the sound of the grapple. And it doesn’t just work on the R301, as the player shows a comprehensive list of other weapons which will benefit from this odd glitch. They include: R301 – R99 – RE45 – Alternator – Flatline – Spitfire – Havoc (with Turbocharger) – Devotion – Unfortunately, it doesn’t apply to all weapons though, with the following weapons not rendered silent with the Pathfinder trick: Kraber – Mastiff – L-Star – EVA-8 – Peacekeeper – Mozambique – P2020 – Anvilled Flatline – Wingman – Hemlok – Longbow – Triple Take – G7 Scout – Prowler – Charge Rifle – You might be thinking that even with practice, timing the shot and grapple at the exact same moment may be too difficult. However, for PC players, this trick can be made a lot easier with the use of a keyboard/mouse macro. This is a method of tying two keypresses together, meaning that pressing one key will also activate another. The player in this clip explains that they were, in fact, using a macro to make this guide video. Unfortunately for console players, you’ll simply have to do it the old fashioned way – which might be a bit harder to perfect. Presumably, this trick is not intended to be possible, so it’s likely it will be patched in a future update, especially if it becomes widespread.

  • Pathfinder ‘Swimming Buddy’ Twitch Prime skin revealed for Apex Legends – Dexerto

Pathfinder ‘Swimming Buddy’ Twitch Prime skin revealed for Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentEverybody’s favorite robot in Apex Legends has got a brand new ‘Swimming Buddy’ skin and Pathfinder looks better than ever! Let’s take a look at the game’s Twitch Prime reward for July. Going live on July 16 is a new Pathfinder outfit, which is bright red and blue from head to toe, quite different to many others that the character has had in the past. The skin has been posted on the official Twitch Prime landing page, and will replace the previous offering of Gibraltar’s Tribal Instinct attire. So, let’s take a look at how to get the latest drop. This time though, it’s not only a new Legend skin, as Respawn and Twitch are also handing out an exclusive weapon charm on July 20. The next Twitch Prime skin slot is blank for now, but hopefully soon we’ll know (via leak or official announcement) which character will be getting a fresh outfit next. Until then, enjoy Pathfinder’s new look!

  • Handy Pathfinder “Super Grapple” trick lets you jump even further in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Handy Pathfinder “Super Grapple” trick lets you jump even further in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have figured out a way to perform a “super grapple” with Pathfinder. It’s just like the normal one, except it has added speed and momentum, allowing you to jump higher and further. Here’s a quick guide on how to do it. Apex Legends is a game of inches, and naturally, that means players are always looking for new ways to push the mechanics to their limits and give themselves an advantage. But while we’ve seen many interesting tricks, including one that lets Horizon players move faster in the air, Pathfinder’s “super grapple” maneuver has proven to be a game-changer, especially in the heat of battle. The difference between a normal grapple and the super grapple is that the latter has a massive initial burst of speed, meaning it can propel you higher and further. And the best part is that it’s actually quite simple to pull off. How to pull off Pathfinder’s “Super Grapple” trick First, you’ll need to look for an object or wall to latch on to. But instead of aiming the grapple on the solid face or side of that object or wall, you’ll want to look for the edge or boundary of the object or wall instead. The key thing to look for is that the crosshair will turn yellow instead of blue, meaning the game is trying to tell you that you cannot grapple onto whatever you’re aiming at. But that’s not actually true. If you’ve aimed correctly, it’s the necessary first step to perform the super grapple. Then, after that, all you need to do is jump at the right time, adding additional speed and momentum. Some players also report that walking forward might help a little, too. So, give both a try and see how you go. And that’s really all there is to it! It might take a bit of time and practice to master. But once you’ve got the technique down pat, you’ll be slinging around the map like Spiderman in no time. It could last days, weeks, months, or years depending on how the developers feel about it. So, if you’re a Pathfinder main, it makes sense to take full advantage of it while it lasts. Otherwise, you’re not playing the legend to its maximum potential.

  • Pathfinder rework: Apex Legends grapple & hitbox changes explained – Dexerto

Pathfinder rework: Apex Legends grapple & hitbox changes explained Respawn EntertainmentRespawn has finally handed Pathfinder long-awaited buffs and changes in the Apex Legends Season 7 update, targeting the Forward Scout’s grappling hook and hitbox — here’s what it all means for the popular Legend. [jwplayer QJBhIFLZ] Pathfinder has been in an interesting place over the last few seasons, flipping between the leading Legend in the game, to a mid-tier pick at best. After taking control on top of the Apex Legends meta, Respawn bumped the Forward Scout’s power down slightly in patch 6.0 by dramatically hiking up his grappling hook cooldown. The Season 6 nerf — which boosted the grapple cooldown all the way up to 35 seconds per use — saw Pathfinder dip drastically in both win and play rates across Apex’s last season. In response, Respawn has dropped two new Pathfinder changes. Here’s what the Apex Legends Season 7 update means for Pathfinder, how it may bring the Forward Scout back into the meta, and what plans Respawn has for the loveable robot just in case he still struggles heading into ‘Ascension.’ Pathfinder grapple buff: what it means Pathfinder has been handed a number of small buffs for his iconic Grappling Hook ability in the Season 7 update. These include a five-second drop in the cooldown — now 30 seconds, down from 35 seconds — as well as an earlier “endpoint.” Apex Legends players using the grapple will no longer need to hit the ground in order to have the hook “finish”. The hook’s end range has also been increased to 500 units/second. “In 6.1, we shipped a very conservative version of this Pathfinder change,” the Respawn devs said in the ‘Ascension’ patch notes. “This didn’t meaningfully affect his win rate… we will now ship a much more aggressive version of the changelist.” This time around, this grappling hook buff should help Pathfinder a lot. The “aggressive” tweaks to both cooldown numbers, and ability end range will give all Forward Scouts one huge bump in combat power, and overall maneuverability. Respawn also wanted to make sure Pathfinder players “weren’t punished for chaining grappling hooks perfectly into other movement mechanics,” which should be the end result of these Nov. 4 balance changes for the happy simulacrum. Pathfinder hitbox rework: what it means The grappling hook changes are a straight buff, but Pathfinder is also getting what could be considered a nerf too; his hitbox will be bulked up slightly in the Season 7 update coming on Nov. 3. The reason this is a nerf for the Forward Scout is because Respawn has decided to keep the “Low Profile” status on him too. That means he’ll get hit more often — because of the bigger hitbox — but still take 20% more damage for his size. Respawn may ‘inject more power’ soon Respawn’s aim, they explained, is to manage Pathfinder’s overall power. If he can be killed quicker, they can begin to inject more power back into his already strong ability kit. “As you can see, there’s a lot of negative space around his arms and legs. We’re hoping that by making it easier to hit Pathfinder we can bring his winrate under control [and can then] put meaningful power into his kit,” the devs wrote. “Even with these increased hitboxes, Pathfinder will still be considerably harder to hit than most other characters in the game. “If this change does make a difference in terms of his win rate we will drop Low Profile; but we really didn’t want to take it off him this patch only to have to put it back next patch when it turns out his win rate spiked.” Last time Respawn handed out small buffs for Pathfinder, his win rate ticked up by just a single percent. This time, it looks like they’ve gone a little harder on the boosts; expect the loveable Apex Legends robot to return to the meta in Season 7. Read more: Apex Legends Season 7 full patch notes – Pathfinder is far from the only Legend buffed or nerfed this patch too. Loba, Rampart, Wattson, Mirage, Caustic, and Bangalore all got tweaks, while Apex speedster Octane was handed a monster boost to his ‘Swift Mend’ healing passive. Season 7 is also adding a new Legend, gravity-controlling Horizon, and taking the battle royale to its third map, Olympus. Read all the ‘Ascension’ patch notes here.

  • Pathfinder overtakes Octane to become Apex Legends second most popular character – Dexerto

Pathfinder overtakes Octane to become Apex Legends second most popular character Respawn/EAPathfinder has finally overtaken Octane as the second-most-popular Apex Legends character around, and could be set to dethrone Wraith for the top spot before long. The meta around Apex Legends character has constantly been in flux, what with Respawn adding new characters pretty much every season, and making changes to the existing roster as well. Over the last year and a bit, Wraith and Octane have occupied the top two spots in some way, both spending time at the top of the mountain. Though, Wraith has always managed to wrestle control back of being the most popular. With Respawn changing character classes and abilities in Season 16, Pathfinder has been steadily working his way back up the pick rate charts, and had settled into third place. However, the Forward Scout is now on course to take the top spot. Pathfinder set to dethrone Wraith as most popular Apex Legends character That’s right, players have noticed more and more Pathfinders in their lobbies, as the character’s pick rate has continued to trend upward. As per ApexLegendsStatus’ stats, the Recond legend has jumped up to a pick rate of 11.3%, which has put him above Octane. That pick rate is up almost 3% compared to the start of Season 15, before he bottomed out at close to 8.5%. At the start of the season, and the changes to the Recon class, Path’s pick rate was hovering around the 10% mark, but it has firmly increased since. With his pick rate trending upwards, and Wraith seeing a sharp decrease since the release of her recolored Heirloom, it’s not out of the question that Path will take top spot. As noted, it would be the first non-Wraith and Octane character up there in quite a while, so it is an impressive achievement. Though, we’ll have to see how long it lasts.

  • Pathfinder Grapple “buff” in Apex Legends is actually a nerf – Dexerto

Pathfinder Grapple “buff” in Apex Legends is actually a nerf Respawn EntertainmentAfter months of waiting, Pathfinder mains were excited to try out his new and improved grapple in Apex Legends, following the Aftermarket update. But, it turns out that it wasn’t actually an improvement at all. [jwplayer rSmq5Fo4] Pathfinder’s grapple previously had a much shorter cooldown, only 15 seconds. This meant that in any given engagement, Pathfinder would likely be able to shoot his grapple multiple times. This was eventually deemed too strong, and the cooldown was increased to 35 seconds, essentially reducing it to one use per engagement (unless it’s a particularly long firefight). Immediately, Pathfinder mains complained that this was far too long a cooldown, and the character’s pick rate plummeted in Season 5. Respawn confirmed ahead of the Aftermarket event that Pathfinder would be getting some “love” in the update, and it certainly was a big change. Whether it was “love” or not, is now up for debate though. Pathfinder’s grapple cooldown now depends on how far the player grapples. A shorter distance = a shorter cooldown. In the patch notes, Respawn explained: “the maximum cooldown is still 35s, but you’re going to have to swing a very long distance to get there.” This was actually a suggestion that came from Reddit. But, back on Reddit after the update, players are not totally convinced this is really a buff at all, as demonstrated by u/laughie1: As demonstrated, this rather small distance pre-patch, would result in the standard 35 second cooldown. But, the Cooldown began immediately after the grapple was launched. Post-patch, 1) the cooldown doesn’t begin until the player lands, and 2) the timer for the length of the grapple continues to increase even after the grapple has disconnected. As the player explains, “If you get the cooldown to 35 seconds, the countdown starts when you hit the ground, not when you first grapple, basically making your grapple cooldown 4-5 seconds longer then before the “buff”.” To make matters worse, if you land into a slide, the timer will continue to hold at 35 seconds, and won’t start counting down until you stop sliding. It’s not clear if this functionality was intended by the developers. They’ve already identified and are working on a fix for a visual bug related to the grapple, but this issue seems to be hard-coded into the new design of the cooldown system.

  • Pathfinder, Crypto & Octane combine for crazy Apex Legends jump trick – Dexerto

Pathfinder, Crypto & Octane combine for crazy Apex Legends jump trick Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer OS20Z7tP] A super jump technique involving Pathfinder, Crypto, and Octane can actually send everyone’s favorite robot in Apex Legends soaring across the map like he was literally shot out of a catapult. Pathfinder is basically a robot version of SpiderMan in Apex Legends, since his grapple allows him significantly more mobility than most other Legends. But a new technique gives him the ability to fly further than ever before. Our cybernetic friend can’t do it all on his own though, as this wild super-leap technique requires the double jump from Octane’s jump pad, which can actually be saved and stored while you’re in the air. Crypto and his Drone aren’t technically required for this to work either, but using the little flying bot to grapple off of is much easier than having Octane set up in a perfect position to use the surrounding terrain and buildings. You can store the Double-jump of Octane’s Jumppad, till after you grappled. Oh and you can also Slingshot off of a Crypto Drone. …oh yeah and you can combine the two.#ApexLegends pic.twitter.com/QCFUajFeKY— Mokey (@mokeysniper) July 22, 2020 Once you jump up with Octane’s ability, you grapple onto the Drone without using the double jump just yet and swing in the direction you want to go. The double jump is actually stored if you don’t touch the ground after leaving the jump pad, which means it can basically double the length that pathfinder can travel once he releases the grapple. In this case, the AI Legend is able to get from one area to another in style, without having to do any of those tedious things like walking, running, or worse – running into enemy teams. Something like this would take a fair bit of team cooperation and setting up to pull off perfectly, so don’t expect to see this the next time you get thrown into a squad of randoms. With a good team though, you could definitely pull this bad boy off, and if you do manage to execute this and get a kill because of it, feel free to send us the clip on Twitter @TitanfallBlog.

  • Genius Pathfinder passive buff would give Apex Legends players upper hand in every game – Dexerto

Genius Pathfinder passive buff would give Apex Legends players upper hand in every game Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has suggested a genius buff for Pathfinder’s passive that would fit his Forward Scout personality perfectly, and give fans of the loveable MRVN legend the upper hand in every battle royale game. Apex Legends Season 10 is nearly over, and while Pathfinder has enjoyed his time in the sun, the Forward Scout never really cracked into the meta’s top tiers. Part of the reason the MRVN robot has never broken into the upper echelon of favorites like Wraith, Octane, and Bloodhound is his loss of scout identity, sparked by two big changes. Firstly, his passive, “Insider Knowledge,” turned into a full Recon-class skill, and he was never really compensated for losing that unique ability way back in Season 6’s first update. On top of that, new legend Seer made his grand entrance in Season 10. The fate-trusting Ambush Artist came armed with a heartbeat sensor, wall-hacks via his ultimate, and more in an arsenal of powerful abilities. To make Pathfinder relevant again, one Apex Legends player has suggested a simple yet genius buff that would help the Forward Scout live up to his iconic title. The Pathfinder passive idea, posted in an /r/ApexLegends thread on October 24, suggested the robot’s scouting ability actually activates quite early in the game. While everyone else is preparing to deploy out of the Apex Legends dropship, Pathfinder — and by extension, his squad — would “now be able to see the first ring.” This would mean the Forward Scout and his squadmates could base their drop around where the ring will go, rather than having to adapt on the fly. It’s a simple change, yes, but fits perfectly with Pathfinder’s “scout” lore, and it would make perfect sense MRVN could hack the dropship computer to see how the Apex Games will play out just a little bit early. The passive idea is a stronger version of the Recon perk, which also seems to fit considering Pathfinder started as the only Legend with the ability. Right now, Pathfinder sits at a play rate of just over 9.2%, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if MRVN got a nice little boost if Respawn did ship this upgrade. It would certainly give Pathfinder players and their squadmates the upper hand every game — knowing where to find the next circle is vital in every battle royale — but Zips_Exe’s buff idea doesn’t seem outside the realm of possibility as Respawn looks to give the Forward Scout back a bit of his identity. If it was to happen, however, it wouldn’t be soon; Season 11 is about to drop, and only Wattson, Crypto, and Gibraltar are expected to get any buffs.

  • Partnered Twitch streamer banned after cheating playing Apex Legends – Dexerto

Partnered Twitch streamer banned after cheating playing Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentIt’s no secret that cheating is becoming a massive problem in Apex Legends, and one partnered Twitch streamer has been banned for using cheats in-game. On March 7, a video was posted to the LivestreamFails subreddit that accused Argentine streamer ‘MOBADOS’ of using third-party software to aid him while playing Apex Legends. The post quickly began to pick up steam with claims that the cheats shown in the video are ‘Aimlock’ and ‘Norecoil’ – as the streamer was able to fire off rounds of bullets into an enemy with incredible precision. Those new to in-game cheat terminology, Aimlock is a tracking software that keeps a player’s reticle locked onto a moving target, while Norecoil eliminates virtually all recoil when a weapon is being fired – allowing a player to shoot completely straight. Now, MOBADOS has been banned by Twitch, despite being a partnered streamer, for utilising the in-game exploits to give himself a leg up on the opposition. According to the comment section of the Reddit post, this isn’t the first time that MOBADOS has been seen using apparent third-party software to cheat in Apex Legends. A video, which was published a week before this Reddit post, makes it pretty clear to many that the streamer was using both cheats described above. The evidence becomes further damning when considering that all Twitch clips of him “cheating” have been deleted and reports that any viewer who makes a remark or accusation in his chat gets banned. Twitch had granted MOBADOS a partnership, despite the fact that cheating in online games while livestreaming violates their terms of service. They have since u-turned on that However, the problem of cheating in Apex Legends still remains. Respawn has recently announced positive news on the matter, revealing that an in-game reporting system will be added soon to make it easier to report players using cheats and exploits. There is no exact date for when the feature will be released – meaning will have to continue to report suspicious activity through the Apex Legends website. Yet, it seems that it will take a whole lot more than just an in-game report feature to really fix a problem that has been allowed to grow and become a major issue in the hugely popular title.

  • Paralyzed streamer hits Diamond in Apex Legends using his mouth only – Dexerto

Paralyzed streamer hits Diamond in Apex Legends using his mouth only Twitch: rockynohands/LuminosityParalyzed Luminosity streamer Rocky ‘RockyNoHands’ Stoutenburgh has managed to reach Diamond rank in Apex Legends using his mouth only. Although standard matches are fun in Apex Legends, a lot of players prefer to test out their skills in Ranked and take on opponents of a similar level. While Predator is the highest rank in Respawn’s battle royale, there’s one tier that gets spoken about more than any other for the majority of the community, and that’s Diamond. Despite being the third-highest rank, reaching it has almost become a symbol of what it takes to be considered good in Apex Legends, so it’s a huge milestone for players when they finally hit it. Well, this was certainly no different for paralyzed streamer RockyNoHands, who managed to achieve the goal only using his mouth. RockyNoHands reaches Diamond III in Apex Legends On March 17, paralyzed Luminosity streamer RockyNoHands took to Twitter to reveal that he had finally hit the Diamond III rank in Apex Legends. While reaching that tier is difficult for anyone, Rocky plays Apex Legends using a controller called a Quadstick. This allows him to play and have full control of his character using his mouth as the primary input. Rocky became a quadriplegic after an accident back in 2006 and was left paralyzed from the neck down. Although certain activities became impossible, Rocky quickly realized he had a talent for gaming and began honing his skills. After years of experience and countless hours of practice, Rocky has mastered playing games using only his mouth and even holds two world records. Hey Yoo , Hit Diamond 3 today…with my mouth controller (R.i.p Scott Hall) got another W for the bad guys #ApexLedgends pic.twitter.com/e6ZQ14trjI— Rockynohands (@RockyNoHands) March 17, 2022 This is just another achievement to add to the list for Rocky and it’s likely he’s got his mind set on climbing even higher up the Ranked ladder. With Master and even Predator in his sights, we’ll have to keep an eye on his stream to see if he can continue to take down the competition and reach new heights.

  • Overwatch Twitch streamers flock to Apex Legends amid content drought – Dexerto

Overwatch Twitch streamers flock to Apex Legends amid content drought Blizzard Entertainment/RespawnMany of Overwatch’s top Twitch streamers are jumping ship to Apex Legends, citing a lack of new content in Blizzard’s hero-based FPS as the reason for their departure. While many of the big Overwatch streamers do still play the game, as that’s how they grew their audience to begin with, Apex has become a major part of their routine in recent weeks. Events – Overwatch’s big content drops throughout the years – have gotten stale over time, as the only new additions to them have been skins and other cosmetics while the modes haven’t evolved. For instance, for the second year in a row, the Archives event disappointed, as it only featured the same three missions in basically their original iterations without adding anything new aside from cosmetics. Additionally, the game’s latest hero, Echo, was released back on April 14, 2020 and no new characters or competitive maps have been added to the game since. Meanwhile, Apex Legends has been continuously pumping out new content and characters. Now, with Season 9 making headlines, the gap between the two games in terms of audience investment has widened immensely. Over on Twitter, streamer Gale Adelade posted a side-by-side of Apex and Overwatch’s Twitch viewership showing a mere 7.9K people watching the latter – while over 170K were tuned into Apex Legends. Hey Blizzard, can we get what they’re getting? Content is pretty Pog ya know? pic.twitter.com/yF1f0pvO0G — Gale (@Gale_Adelade) May 5, 2021 “Hey Blizzard, can we get what they’re getting? Content is pretty Pog ya know?” he sarcastically captioned the post. Read More: Best Legends to use in Apex Legends Season 9 – Others have made it very obvious that Overwatch’s lack of content is why they’re streaming Apex so often. Top 500 tank player Flats mocked “playing game with new content” to advertise his Apex stream on Twitter. Fran, one of the most popular female Overwatch streamers, started posting Apex Legends videos to her YouTube channel. The same can be said for Stylosa at Unit Lost, who has started uploading more Apex videos despite being an Overwatch YouTuber. With Overwatch 2 still in development and no release date set, this trend could very well continue going forward. Blizzard didn’t reveal that many new details about the game at BlizzCon aside from some new maps, so fans have been in the dark for quite some time. That said, Overwatch’s new Game Director Aaron Keller has teased large new features will be coming to the game soon, but didn’t share what these new features and systems would be. https://twitter.com/FRANA_OW/status/1389248386579279876 One possibility is a supposed clan system that was actually leaked at BlizzCon, but it’s unclear if that is a feature coming to Overwatch 2 or the base game. In any case, we’ll have to see if they’re big enough to keep more of the game’s top streamers from jumping ship.

  • Overwatch-style dialogue could improve Apex Legends Ultimate abilities – Dexerto

Overwatch-style dialogue could improve Apex Legends Ultimate abilities Respawn EntertainmentA creative idea to implement Overwatch-inspired dialogue in Apex Legends would vastly improve teams looking to coordinate their Ultimate abilities. As it stands, there isn’t a telegraphed way of notifying your teammates when your Ultimate ability is ready in Apex Legends. But an automatic voice line from your Legend to the rest of your team could make it much simpler to know what tools an Apex squad has. Overwatch does a great job with this since the members of a six-character team each call out when their Ultimates are ready. Taking inspiration from this, Reddit user ‘tanaysharma97’ created concepts that can be used for every Legend in the game. “When your ultimate ability is ready,” tanaysharma97 explained. “You can let your squadmates know [with] a noticeable UI followed by the Legend’s voice line.” Great examples of this would be with Bloodhound’s Beast of the Hunt where they say “With the Allfather’s blessing, I am ready to hunt them down.” It’s a clever and organic way to let the rest of your team know that your Ult is ready without having to turn on comms or awkwardly type in chat. Apex Legends is known for its in-depth lore as well as the amazing personalities injected into every character, and these voice lines would only compliment that. “Brothers, Mortar’s done loading! They will definitely see it coming HAHAHA,” reads Gibraltar’s proposed voice line, which he’d say when his Defensive Bombardment is ready. While the idea was met with great reception, some thought the voice lines are just a bit too long just to tell people an ability is ready to use. To fix that, some thought these voice lines could be activated when the player has about 90% charge in their Ult so it could be more preemptive while retaining the personality and flair of the full lines of dialogue. In either case, it would also be accompanied by a simple UI addition to the HUD that would be lit up when the Ultimate is available for use. A lot of players don’t like to chat in-game when playing with random teammates, so this type of communication can be vital for a team looking to push up on a team or make a last-ditch escape.

  • Overwatch streamers show off Apex Legends skill during intense win – Dexerto

Overwatch streamers show off Apex Legends skill during intense win Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends launched on Monday, February 4, and the game has managed to stay on top of Twitch since release, with streamers giving the game plenty of playtime and viewers. At this point, it’s safe to say Apex is one of the biggest games of the year already, with plenty of popular streamers putting in a significant amount of time on the game. Two big Overwatch streamers, Brandon ‘Seagull’ Lanred and Atlanta Reign pro Daniel ‘dafran’ Francesca managed to pull off a hilarious and sneaky win in Apex while grouped during a recent stream. Seagull and dafran were the last two remaining in their group after their third teammate, Dallas Fuel Support Benjamin “uNKOE” Chevasson, was eliminated earlier in the match. With only one other squad left, the pair of streamers were hidden under a rock just inside the late game circle. The pair’s master plan was to call down Seagull’s Care Package and wait for the other team to take the bait before ambushing them. Turns out the other players were right on top of the pair, so in the end, it came down to a firefight which the professional gamer and the professional streamer managed to win. Seagull isn’t the only former Dallas Fuel player to be dipping into Apex either, as his former teammate, Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel has already been using his Winston skills to dominate the new battle royale. With more than 10 million players in the first week, it’s clear countless other streamers from are also giving the new game a shot. There’s no telling when the Apex hype will die down, but for now, a lot of Overwatch players seem to be enjoying the new hero shooter.

  • Ex-Overwatch pro Seagull “triggered” by Apex Legends’ broken muzzle flash – Dexerto

Ex-Overwatch pro Seagull “triggered” by Apex Legends’ broken muzzle flash Respawn EntertainmentFormer Overwatch pro and Twitch streamer Brandon ‘Seagull’ Larned was dumbfounded after a gunfight in Apex Legends went completely wrong because of a absurd feature of the game. Even though Apex Legends has been back on the rise with the launch of Season 2, there are still parts of the game that a lot of players think need a bit more polishing to get rid of all major annoyances Players have been finding strange bugs throughout the battle royale that do everything from making Wraith damn near unkillable to abruptly switching characters after the Legend select screen. In a June 10 stream, Seagull was in a dire straight in The Cage when he jumped down from a higher level to help a fallen teammate, intercepting the efforts of an enemy Pathfinder to finish off the downed player. While it looked like it was an easy 1v1 for Seagull to take with his fully-equipped Devotion, it didn’t turn out so well for the streamer. “I can’t see him, I can’t see him! That’s so dumb,” Seagull said. “He just two-tapped my teammate. I literally couldn’t see him… I have to show you guys why it triggers me so much hard in slow-mo. You literally can’t even see anyone. I hate muzzle flash so much in this game. Bewildered by what just happened he slowed down the replay of the stream to demonstrate to his viewers how the Pathfinder seamingly disappeared under all of the game’s overlays: “There’s so much clutter, it’s worse than Overwatch’s clutter. At least Overwatch’s clutter only appears when everyone is hitting Q, this game it just happens when I aim at people. I get so triggered by it.” Seagull’s “pro-tips” for countering Apex Legends muzzle flash The former pro said that there were a few ways he sees to effectively counter the persistent muzzle flash since “it’s actually impossible to see someone” through it. One recommendation he had is to submit to the inaccuracies of hipfire, since it moves the ADS muzzle flash away from the center of the screen. But for a different approach, he thinks tap-firing might be another way to prevent being bombarded by the flash of your own weapon being fired. Since Respawn took away the ability to remove the muzzle flash via configuration files, players would definitely appreciate an update that lessens the effect on their screens.

  • Overpowered IMC Armories exploit still not fixed in Apex Legends after patch 1.97 – Dexerto

Overpowered IMC Armories exploit still not fixed in Apex Legends after patch 1.97 Respawn EntertainmentDespite Apex Legends patch 1.97 claiming the IMC Armories exploits had been fixed, players are still glitching through the top of the buildings to kill unsuspecting players inside. Season 13 of Apex Legends introduced a huge amount of new features to the Outlands including the Storm Point Downed Beast POI, Ranked Reloaded, and of course the Heroic Defender, Newcastle. Despite this, it’s the IMC Armories that have been garnering a lot of attention thanks to the incredible amount of loot they provide and unfortunately, the exploits being used to takedown those fighting the Spectres. Shortly after Season 13 went live, players quickly realized you could use Wraith or Ash and a Trident to glitch through the roof of an armory and eliminate all the unsuspecting victims inside. On June 7, Respawn announced that these IMC Armory exploits had been removed with patch 1.97, but the fix doesn’t seem to have worked. IMC Armories exploit still not fixed in patch 1.97 On June 7, Respawn released the 1.97 patch notes which were meant to solve the rampant exploits affecting the IMC Armories. Although the methods involving Wraith and Ash are no longer possible, players have already figured out a new way to enter buildings just using the Trident as showcased by RossBobSquirrel. This is a major issue as the IMC Armories are meant to be a location where squads can loot up and feel safe without the risk of being third-partied. However, as exploiters can simply drop into the room at any point and gun down opponents while they’re taking on Spectres, it puts the players inside at a major disadvantage. Keep in mind, as the devs have attempted to patch this exploit in the recent update, it’s obvious they do not want the community using it. As a result, replicating the bug in your matches to gain an advantage over your enemies may lead to a ban, as Respawn has been cracking down on players using glitches. Finger crossed a solution is found for this exploit as soon as possible or fans of IMC Armories may continue to get raided by sneaky squads from above.

  • Overpowered Apex Legends melee exploit returns after Season 10 Rampart buff – Dexerto

Overpowered Apex Legends melee exploit returns after Season 10 Rampart buff Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends’ melee exploit has returned in Season 10 and this time it’s Rampart insta-killing her opponents with a barrage of kicks. As with any multiplayer title, Apex Legends struggles with its fair share of bugs and exploits, but it usually doesn’t take Respawn very long to iron out these issues. However, not every single in-game problem stays fixed forever, and occasionally, some glitches make a return in a future update. This can cause a lot of frustration in the community as no one likes being affected by an issue that has supposedly been fixed. A recurrent example of this is the melee damage exploit which has returned to the game numerous times and has again surfaced in Season 10 following Rampart’s buff. Apex Legends melee exploit is back in Season 10 After being fixed all the way back in Season 5, the melee kick exploit has returned multiple times and as discovered by Reddit user frektz, it’s back in Season 10. The bug appears to have resurfaced following the Evolution Collection event update and seems to only be possible on Rampart. Read More: Apex Legends players slam “garbage” servers – This makes sense as a set of huge changes were made to her Ultimate ability, and that’s exactly what allows players to spam melee attacks. It involves pulling out the minigun and using melee – doing this repetitively cancels the long animation of the attack and allows a player to do huge damage in just a few seconds. This is definitely not an intended mechanic and the devs will no doubt be looking to fix this issue again as soon as possible to prevent players from gaining an unfair advantage. It’s impossible to know why this melee exploit has become such a thorn in Respawn’s side and seems to come back over and over again. While it’s likely the bug will be patched extremely quickly, this probably won’t be the last time we’ll see this exploit in-game.
