  • Outrageous Apex Legends hacker destroys NICKMERCS, Cloakzy and 72hrs – Dexerto

Outrageous Apex Legends hacker destroys NICKMERCS, Cloakzy and 72hrs Twitch: NICKMERCS, Respawn EntertainmentIconic FPS streamers NICKMERCS, Cloakzy and 72hrs had their Apex Legends battle cut short by an insane hacker. As Call of Duty: Warzone players continue to flock to Respawn’s iconic FPS, Apex Legends, it appears that they’re bringing a whole collection of hackers and cheaters with them. Apex players across the globe have uncovered evidence that shows a direct correlation between Warzone’s mass exodus and the amount of searching for illegal software to use in the Apex Games. It turns out, unsurprisingly, that streamers have become their target, with a game featuring icons such as NICKMERCS, Cloakzy and 72hrs coming to a sudden close after they encountered a hacker. Apex hacker destroys NICKMERCS, Cloakzy & 72hrs Whilst battling it out in trios, the star studded team encountered a particularly brutal hacker that brought the fun to a very abrupt close. The hacker, posting on their YouTube, can be seen utilizing an aimbot hack that means he doesn’t miss any shots, no matter how far away he is. Demolishing Nick first before moving on to exact vengeance on 72hrs who “thought [he] could kill him,” the stream team take the issue pretty well all things considered, tea bagging it away as though it were nothing. “”I thought I could kill him!”” – @72hrs There’s really no defeating these cheaters, who are targetting top pros + streamers 😔 pic.twitter.com/YH2NUdEiEN — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) August 25, 2021 As stream sniping becomes evermore commonplace, even the biggest names will struggle to brush off these unfair losses. Not only that, it ruins the streams for people who just want to watch their favorite pros mess around and pop some heads at the highest level of gameplay. To combat rule breakers, players have suggested a similar system to Riot Games’ Vanguard system. This terminates any Valorant games where cheaters are playing but with no in-game cost to their victims. Hopefully Respawn will be on the case pretty soon, otherwise faithful Apex players will be forced to shake off the hackers alone.

  • Outrageous Apex legends hack makes Charge Rifle an infinite laserbeam aimbot – Dexerto

Outrageous Apex legends hack makes Charge Rifle an infinite laserbeam aimbot Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends hack is turning the Charge Rifle into an infinite laserbeam that can lock onto players from across the map and instantly kill them. As with any FPS title, Apex Legends struggles with its fair share of cheaters, hackers, and DDoSers that use third-party programs to gain an unfair advantage over their opponents. While you would expect the majority of these players to be banned immediately after a few games, that doesn’t always happen. Some cheaters even manage to climb to the highest ranks on the ladder and terrorize other competitors in Predator. Now, a new hack involving the Charge Rifle is running rampant in Apex matches and allows cheaters to beam down enemies infinitely from across the map. Charge Rifle hack is terrorizing Apex Legends players A thread posted to the Apex Legends subreddit showing off an unbelievable Charge Rifle hack has garnered over 8,100 upvotes at the time of writing. The exploit effectively turns the Charge Rifle into an infinite laserbeam that never runs out of ammo. This is paired alongside an aimbot that allows the cheater to instantly lock on to players and kill them in seconds. As the clip shows, the hacker’s scope is constantly switching positions and auto-locking onto every opponent in their sightline. Luckily, megamind00007’s Reddit post didn’t just help to show off the Charge Rifle hack, it also resulted in the player in the video being banned. Respawn’s Security Analyst Hideouts responded to the post and revealed that the cheater had been permanently suspended from the game. It’s not known how many Apex players are abusing the Charge Rifle hack but it’s definitely an issue Respawn needs to look into. With so many players being affected by hackers in the game’s ranked mode, it’s ruining the competitive integrity of the title.

  • OpTic exits Apex Legends as org drops ALGS roster after rough Split 1 – Dexerto

OpTic exits Apex Legends as org drops ALGS roster after rough Split 1 Joe Brady/EAOpTic Gaming has abruptly exited the Apex Legends scene as the org just dropped its roster after failing to qualify for the Split 1 Playoffs, despite being inducted as one of ALGS’ Year 4 Partnered Teams. OpTic has parted ways with its ALGS roster after failing to qualify for the Split 1 Playoffs. In the midst of their release, Mark “Dropped” Thees revealed OpTic was leaving the scene entirely, rather than seeking out a new roster. “No longer a part of OpTic, they have decided to exit the Apex scene,” Dropped confirmed. “Thanks to them and the fans for the past year of support. It was a pleasure representing the Green Wall.” Other than a thank you post to their ALGS team for playing under them on X, OpTic has yet to officially announce their exit from the scene as a whole. OpTic’s departure from the scene comes as the squad failed to make it to the Split 1 Playoffs in the recent NA Regional Split. The team had a chance to make it to Los Angeles in the Finals, however, couldn’t earn enough points, falling just short. The team ended fourth, just two spots away from a qualification spot for the Playoffs. Their rough start to the season comes after a breakout 2023 at the ALGS Championship where OpTic came second, narrowly missing out on the trophy against TSM in the Finals. After their 2023 season, OpTic was announced as part of ALGS’ Partner Teams program, which gave a financial stipend to help inducted orgs build a stable program. As of writing, it’s unknown if the three dropped players, Dropped, William “Skittlecakes” August, and Logan “Knoqd” Layou will be playing together again. Neither is it known if OpTic is still part of the ALGS Partner program.

  • OpTic Apex Legends pro furious as PC freezes fall on deaf ears at ALGS Split 2 Finals – Dexerto

OpTic Apex Legends pro furious as PC freezes fall on deaf ears at ALGS Split 2 Finals Joe Brady/EAOpTic Apex Legends player, Dropped, was left furious after his PC froze during Game 3 with only eight squads left in the Finals of ALGS Split 2. Despite alerting admins on stage immediately, the team was not given a pause to rectify the issue. ALGS Split 2 has drawn to a close, and it did so in a nail-biter of a finals with reigning ALGS Champions DarkZero and 2023 Split 1 winner TSM vying for the top spot. However, it was DarkZero’s Zer0 that went above and beyond to bring them the trophy. The Split was not free of its controversies though as its final was marred by a tech issue, one that proved disastrous for OpTic, with no tech pauses given for the team to figure things out. During game three of the finals, OpTic’s Mark “Dropped” Thees’ PC froze mid-way through the match. This crash occurred as there were only eight squads remaining. While frozen, Dropped was downed by a stray bullet and consequently killed by the barrier, all while unable to respond. OpTic Apex Legends player lashes out after disastrous PC freeze with no pauses Admins immediately looked at his PC, with Dropped asking the admins, “my PC is frozen, can they pause the game?” Unfortunately, the game was not paused for Dropped at this point in the match, with his teammates William “Skittlecakes” August and Logan “Knoqd” Layou left to fight for themselves. The remaining duo, now at a clear disadvantage, would be subsequently eliminated shortly after Dropped died from the barrier, placing eighth in the game. This soon led to uproar from Dropped and his Green Wall teammates. In a tweet addressing the PC freeze after the event finished, Dropped wrote, “game crashes in game three and eight squads left on rotate, DarkZero gets a free win because of it and gets match point.” “They don’t pause the game and just say ‘unlucky!’” Dropped continued. “Hate to be that guy but where is the competitive integrity man, absolute joke. “We are playing for literal hundreds of thousands of dollars, s*** like this cannot be happening. Better systems need to be put in place to prevent this, do better [EA].” OpTic was able to bounce back after the unfortunate freeze, placing 14th, 2nd, 5th, and 2nd in the subsequent games. However, just as Dropped put it, the team missed out on a potential match point in that crucial third lobby. He added in a follow-up tweet, “Don’t want to be only negative. I’m extremely proud of us as a team to bounce back and mentally reset after a crash, and still pull out 8th place for the LAN. First LAN as a team and will only get better, see you at Champs.”

  • OP Seer bug in Apex Legends makes heartbeat sensor permanent – Dexerto

OP Seer bug in Apex Legends makes heartbeat sensor permanent Respawn EntertainmentAn overpowered Seer bug in Apex Legends is allowing players to utilize his heartbeat sensor Passive permanently, including while using their weapon and healing. Season 16 of Apex Legends is well underway and the community is enjoying the new Nemesis AR, improved Firing Range, and reworked class abilities. Despite this, it was the Legend balance changes that had the biggest impact on the meta, with countless characters on the roster receiving buffs and nerfs. Out of all the alterations, Seer arguably got hit the hardest with his Tactical, Passive, and Ultimate all being nerfed. This has caused his pick rate to drop dramatically since Season 16 went live. However, a new bug has suddenly made the Ambush Master OP again, as the glitch gives players access to a permanent heartbeat sensor. Seer bug turns his heartbeat sensor Passive on permanently As showcased by popular Apex Legends YouTuber Bobz, a new OP Seer bug gives the Ambush Master a permanent heartbeat sensor. This means he can fire his weapon, run around at full speed, and even heal while having access to the powerful Passive. Activating the glitch involves sliding, hitting your tactical, and then using melee all in a short sequence. This will cause the heartbeat sensor to turn on and never get disabled unless you ADS. It’s not recommended that you use this glitch or you risk being punished by Respawn and even getting a permanent ban. Fixing this OP will need to be a priority for the devs as the Season 16 patch was designed to heavily nerf Seer, and now a bug has made his kit immensely strong again. It’ll be interesting to see whether Respawn waits for the next Collection Event patch or rolls out a hotfix in the near future.

  • OP “Raf strafing” movement trick in Apex Legends makes you impossible to hit – Dexerto

OP “Raf strafing” movement trick in Apex Legends makes you impossible to hit Respawn Entertainment“Raf strafing” is a new movement mechanic in Apex Legends that’s gone viral as it makes you absurdly difficult to hit. One of the most praised aspects of Apex Legends is the game’s unique and satisfying movement that is unlike any other FPS title. This allows players to utilize advanced movement tricks that can give them an advantage over their opponents. Whether it’s tap-strafing, bunny-hopping, or wall-bouncing, there are countless techniques to learn in the Outlands if you’re looking to completely master movement in Apex. Well, another mechanic has been discovered, and it appears to be more OP than any other movement trick that’s been seen before. “Raf strafing” movement mechanic goes viral in Apex Legends Now known as “raf strafing”, the new movement mechanic involves strafing from left to right in mid-air while moving forward and jumping up and down. This combination of movement and direction change makes it almost impossible to land a shot on a player using the technique. As showcased by Twitter user @rafyxxx_a it’s unbelievably effective for aggressively pushing an enemy in a face-to-face gunfight. Due to constant direction changes, the bullets seem to bend around a player “raf strafing”, making it seem as if they’re cheating. The clip has garnered a massive amount of attention from the Apex community, with countless players shocked that this kind of movement is even possible. Professional player Nocturnal was completely caught off-guard by the technique, simply asking “what in the f**k is this”. While rafyxxx_a has promised a tutorial is coming soon, some members of the community have speculated that this is only possible by altering config files. Although this isn’t against the rules in pubs, it is banned in competitive play, so we’ll have to wait and see how this is performed. It’s possible this is a movement mechanic anyone can learn, but if that’s the case, Respawn may have to get involved, as it’s there’s no denying it’s powerful.

  • OP Lifeline buff idea would make her a solo carry in Apex Legends – Dexerto

OP Lifeline buff idea would make her a solo carry in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has developed a Tactical buff idea for Lifeline and it would make her the best solo carry Legend in the game. Despite having her res-shield removed from her Passive, Lifeline has remained a popular pick in Apex Legends with a pick rate of 5.8% in Season 11. Although this makes her the sixth most popular Legend in the game, a lot of Combat Medic mains believe the nerf to her Passive went a little too far. As a result, a section of the community has been calling for a buff and an Apex Legends modder has decided to put forward their own suggestion. While the idea would certainly make a Lifeline a top-tier pick, it also has the potential to make her an unstoppable force in gunfights. Lifeline buff idea would skyrocket her pick rate in Apex Apex Legends YouTuber and modder Archtux has developed a new buff to Lifeline’s Passive in the R5Reloaded server. It involves allowing her healing to drone follow her while she’s on the move. This would mean Lifeline players would be able to have a constant source of healing during gunfights, instead of having to stay behind cover while regenerating health. Not only that, the drone could also be used to block bullets if it’s positioned correctly, making her even more difficult to takedown. Although Archtux’s idea has been well-received by the community, there’s a risk that the buff would make Lifeline the best solo carry in the entire game, especially in one on one skirmishes. However, the concept does show Combat Medic mains are desperate for a buff, so we’ll have to see if Respawn takes note and make any changes in the future.

  • OP Apex Legends weapon surprisingly goes untouched in mid-season patch – Dexerto

OP Apex Legends weapon surprisingly goes untouched in mid-season patch RespawnRespawn dropped a massive patch in the middle of Season 22 with extensive changes to Valkyrie, but the developers did not touch the one weapon dominating Apex Legends. At the start of Season 22, Apex Legends introduced a new Akimbo mechanic for the P2020 and Mozambique. Players are now able to wield these weapons in pairs if they can find them, doubling their effective damage and magazine sizes. Apex players have asked for Respawn to nerf the Mozambique specifically, as the weapon has taken over professional play and casual matches alike. At the ALGS Split 2 LAN event in August, pros recorded over 200 kills with the gun across the tournament where it had almost no presence before. The dual-wield shotgun is oppressive in close-range fights as players can easily wipe a full squad with enough ammo thanks to its automatic and quick firing. The Apex developers, however, have not given in to player demands and decided not touch the weapon in the mid-season patch. The only mention of the Mozambique was how the gun is now a Gold Weapon. The lack of a nerf to the gun surprised players, as many expected Respawn to change something about its damage output as it is clearly one of the strongest weapons in the game. “Crazy to see that the Akimbo Mozambs hasn’t been touched at ALL,” one player said on social media. “Nice to see Valk got huge buffs but… BROTHER IN CHRIST NO MOZAM AKIMBO NERF,” another social media user said. Respawn can still adjust the Mozambique later down the line, but players were expecting the developer to make some kind of change in this update considering how dominant the weapon is. At this rate, players should expect to see a change to the powerful dual-wield gun closer to Season 23, which should be releasing in late October 2024.

  • OP Apex Legends trick gives Fuse players wallhacks in huge area – Dexerto

OP Apex Legends trick gives Fuse players wallhacks in huge area Respawn EntertainmentA new Fuse ultimate trick is giving the Explosive Enthusiast free wallhacks, enabling Apex Legends players to instantly reveal enemies in a vast area. While Fuse’s ultimate has always revealed nearby enemy units in Apex Legends, a new trick is giving the explosive-loving character even more intel on enemy locations. Having good vision of your foes in Respawn’s battle royale title has always been incredibly important. Not only does it enable you to get the drop on unsuspecting enemies, but it can also save you from any pesky flanks or third parties. In fact, knowing exactly where your opponents are can lead to many decisive victories. This makes Fuse’s new ultimate trick incredibly valuable, especially for those that wish to increase their kill potential in Season 11. Whether you’re a Fuse main or not, you’ll want to be aware of this game-changing strategy. Apex Legends Fuse trick gives him OP wallhacks From speed boost glitches that give players infinite slides to exploits that make Wraith impossible to fight, Apex Legends players are always finding new ways to increase their lethality on the battlefield. However, the latest trick that is gaining a lot of attention on social media involves Fuse – the game’s explosive specialist. Apex Legends YouTuber, Skeptation, recently uploaded a video that detailed how Fuse can heighten the enemy reveal distance of his ultimate. In order to gain free wallhacks in Apex Legends, Fuse must first fire a Frag Grenade directly above him. After the grenade has been launched, Skeptation then unleashes Fuse’s ultimate directly underneath the explosive. This method greatly enhances the radius of Fuse’s ultimate, enabling players to reveal enemies in a much larger area. While the fiery ability may not hit any enemies, it is extremely effective at uncovering opponent locations. The credit for finding this trick actually goes to Apex YouTuber shomaru 7, who posted an example of it in a match. Once the players are tagged, you can then notify your squad and make plays according to this information. Whether Respawn will nerf this trick remains to be seen, but for now, Fuse mains will have a huge advantage when it comes to spotting potential threats.

  • OP Apex Legends rat spot on Kings Canyon still isn’t fixed – Dexerto

OP Apex Legends rat spot on Kings Canyon still isn’t fixed Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Kings Canyon may be the most well-known map in the game, but this secret rat spot is ideal for clutching many a surprise victory. While landing at high-tier loot locations in Apex Legends can give you an edge over your opponents, sometimes it’s best to be a little more stealthy. After all, using lesser-known locations can result in a number of dominant victories, particularly if you manage to ambush your foes. Despite being the oldest map in the game, Kings Canyon is still home to plenty of secret rats spots players can utilize. In fact, this specific location is perfect for Valkyrie and Pathfinder mains looking to secure a sneaky win. Whether you’re aiming to recover from a particularly intense firefight or just wish to hold out to later rounds, then this Kings Canyon rat spot will give you the edge needed to outlast your competitors. Apex Legends secret Kings Canyon rat spot The best Apex Legends rat spots often conceal a player from view, giving them the cover needed to launch a deadly attack or hide from enemy squads. While certain positions provide excellent vantage points for long-range engagements, there are times when avoiding combat is a much more viable option. Apex Legends YouTuber, Skeptation, has revealed a classic rat spot that both Pathfinder and Valkyrie can make use of. To make use of this location, simply head over to Airbase and jump off the landing pads. Before you fall out of bounds, simply use Pathfinder’s grapple or Valkyrie’s jets to reach the beams below. There’s even a secret cave you can get to by using if you jump from the rocky outcrops near the landing pads. In order to leave this rat spot, just use Pathfinder’s zipwire You can either stay on the small platform or Valk jets. The latter is a little more difficult, so take extra care when flying to safety.

  • OP Apex Legends exploit lets you heal & revive in portals without taking damage – Dexerto

OP Apex Legends exploit lets you heal & revive in portals without taking damage Respawn/EAApex Legends players have uncovered an unusual, and complicated, glitch that allows them to heal while reviving teammates or inside of a portal. Ever since Apex Legends first released players have been finding creative ways to get a leg up on their competition – even if some of their tricks have landed them with bans. Most of the advantages players gain from exploits and glitches usually revolve around doing something faster – be it moving quicker, being able to reload your gun in the blink of an eye, or getting an immediate recharge for an ultimate. However, not everything has to be about speed to be an advantage, as players have uncovered a way to heal in situations where you absolutely shouldn’t be able to. The glitch was first highlighted by Apex Legends YouTuber ICEE Ops, who noted that while it was pretty complicated, it could be done on any of the battle royale’s maps. While we won’t give you exact steps to replicating it, the glitch involves using two weapons that share an attachment, as well as jumping up and hanging onto a ledge, and interacting with something. If done correctly, players are able to heal themselves while reviving a downed teammate, and can also heal inside portals. While the glitch takes a while to set up, it is a pretty decent advantage to those using it. As of writing, the glitch hasn’t been flagged on Respawn’s public Trello board, so it’s unknown if they’re aware of the issue just yet. And, as Apex Legends YouTuber RossBobSquirrel notes, players who use it could very well be banned soon after. If Respawn does become aware of the problem, don’t be shocked to see it patched pretty quickly.

  • Is one of Titanfall’s most hated guns coming to Apex Legends? – Dexerto

Is one of Titanfall’s most hated guns coming to Apex Legends? Respawn EntertainmentA leaked game file found in Apex Legends sparked panic in the community as players feared the Smart Pistol from Titanfall was coming. Almost all of the weapons in Apex Legends are borrowed from Titanfall, or at least heavily inspired by Respawn’s original multiplayer series. Everything from the G2 Scout to the R301 and the Wingman, all of these weapons have their roots in either the first or second Titanfall game. However, there are still plenty of guns that have not made their way to the Apex games yet – such as the smart pistol. Many a Titanfall fan will shudder at even the mention of the feared smart pistol. It quickly gained a reputation as an overpowered weapon, capable of picking up easy kills. It featured in both TF1 and 2, as the Smart Pistol MK5 and then MK6. In the first game, it could be added straight to a player’s loadout, but, mainly because of complaints, it was moved to a boost weapon in the second game, given as a score-streak reward. On February 24, Apex data miner That1MiningGuy shared game files mentioning the feared Smart Pistol, with the file destination shown as ‘Smart_Pistol_MK6_bullet’. https://twitter.com/That1MiningGuy/status/1232172152482402304 Of course, it must be noted that this was no guarantee that the weapon is coming to Apex Legends. There have been many other files discovered as ‘leftovers’ from Titanfall, or it could simply be some development testing at the studio. Update, February 26: Respawn developer Jason McCord has confirmed that the Smart Pistol is definitely not coming to Apex Legends. But, that hasn’t stopped Titanfall players panicking at the very thought of the Smart Pistol joining the Apex Legends arsenal. Can’t wait for my 60 kill game with all of them being headshots if this comes to Apex. — SkynetOP (@SkynetO) February 25, 2020 For those unfamiliar, the weapon has the ability to lock onto opponents, with the speed of the lock-on determined by the distance to an enemy. In Titanfall 2, it was nerfed somewhat, primarily by alerting opponents when they were being locked-on to. Whether such a weapon has any place in a battle royale game or not, we may just have to wait and find out.

  • One Apex Legends gun reigns supreme as most-picked at ALGS Championship 2023 – Dexerto

One Apex Legends gun reigns supreme as most-picked at ALGS Championship 2023 Joe Brady/EAApex Legends’ R-99 reigned supreme as the most-picked gun during the ALGS Championship 2023 event, and it wasn’t even close. ALGS Championship 2023 just wrapped up, and it saw TSM once again take the spot as Apex Legends’ best team with a third LAN trophy to their name and ImperialHal taking home another LAN MVP award. The tournament also saw upsets, as favorites and reigning champs DarkZero were knocked out early in the Loser’s Bracket, with iiTzTimmy’s The Dojo surprising everyone with a fourth-place finish at the team’s first LAN. However Champs brought up discussion surrounding its “can’t see s***” meta, as team comps and playstyles have drastically shifted for the tournament, and the weapon pick rates reflect just that. R-99 dominates weapon stats at ALGS Championship 2023 According to Apex Legends Status, the R-99 was the most used gun at the tournament, and the runner-up wasn’t even close. With 974 recorded R-99 kills, 66+ hours of total playtime, and a whopping 419,000 total damage, the R-99 was by far the most preferred gun at the event. Coming at a distant second, the C.A.R, another SMG, racked up a total of 504 kills, with 39+ hours of playtime and 217,000 damage. There were two rifles in the top five most used guns, with the 30-30 and Hemlok making an appearance in third and fourth place respectively. However, SMGs dominated the weapon picks as three of the top five most picked guns were SMGs. In comparison to this year’s ALGS Split 2, it saw an even usage of weapons across the board with no one weapon dominating, with the R-99 not seeing as much use as Champs. As for why so many players opted for the R-99, it most likely has to do with the “can’t see s***” meta which favors mid to close-ranged fights.

  • One Apex Legends cargo bot always drops a vault key – How to get it – Dexerto

One Apex Legends cargo bot always drops a vault key – How to get it Respawn EntertainmentLoot vaults are home to some of the rarest gear in Apex Legends and we’ve found a way to enter them every single game, with one particular cargo bot appearing to always drop a key. The general rule for collecting a vault key in Season 4 is to shoot down a red cargo bot, which can be seen flying around in the sky at numerous locations in World’s Edge, but they’re pretty rare and not usually very easy to find. That’s until you start using this really handy trick that not everybody will know about just yet. Let’s take a look at how to get a guaranteed vault key in Apex Legends. How to guarantee yourself a vault key in Apex Legends First of all, you’re going to have to drop right down to one of the most popular locations on the West side of the map, Mirage Voyage. You may notice that a few of the typical cargo bots are flying around the area, as they usually are, but it’s not actually one of those that you need to focus your attention on. Not for the guaranteed key, at least. There’s a fixed ball, which are usually carried overhead by bots, on the top floor of the Mirage Voyage ship. It can be found in the middle room, where there are usually a number of Mirage holograms running around, being used as a disco ball. For those thinking that this may be a one-off, we have tried this repeatedly and it has genuinely never failed. Our video guide can be seen below. Open up the vault Once you have scouted it out, simply fire at it until it drops to the ground, break it open and you should find the key – along with some other items – inside. Now that you are carrying the loot vault key, all you have to do is find one. Simply walk up to the door, slot the key inside and open up the vault. Inside there are no weapons, but you will be met with a number of rare purple and gold items or weapon attachments, which are really useful to have in any game. Where to find loot vaults in Apex Legends We have previously written a guide, which includes all loot vault locations in Season 4, and that should be really useful in your search for rare loot. The quicker you get the key, grab a weapon and make your way to a vault, the better. There’s no way of knowing whether or not the odds of finding one from this disco ball will shift as Season 4 goes on, but as of the time of writing, it appears to be working each time it’s tried. As more and more people become aware of the trick, though, do expect even more players to be landing at Mirage Voyage in search of that elusive key.

  • Olympus map changes coming in Apex Legends Season 9: Legacy – Dexerto

Olympus map changes coming in Apex Legends Season 9: Legacy Respawn EntertainmentApex Legend’s newest map Olympus will be getting a makeover for Season 9: Legacy, as Valkyrie’s arrival to the game has invited some unwanted guests. Valkyrie is the 17th Legend to join the games, and according to Respawn, it sounds like her arrival has prompted a response from someone – though we don’t know for sure who it is yet. What we do know is that they’ve dropped a large ship on Olympus, that was full of scientists running experiments, and now large roots have shot out and covered portions of the map. We got hands-on with the new Olympus map updates thanks to Respawn, and they’ve made a big change to the crossroads area of the map. How will Olympus be changed? Maps in Apex Legends usually do get some kind of update after a couple of seasons. We’ve seen it happen with Kings Canyon, World’s Edge, and now it seems to be Olympus’s turn. The Icarus ship has landed, directly on top of where crossroads was previously. From a gameplay perspective, Respawn wanted to make this less of a sniper’s paradise, with so many long, uninterrupted sightlines. Read More: When is Apex Legends Mobile coming out? – Around the new area, you will find the corpses of scientists, killed by the nemesis who has arrived to drop the Icarus and the hug plant. On scientist corpses, there will be bridge keycards, which allow access to the bridge of the ship, and the best loot. There are two other changes on Olympus as well. Because Tridents are used so often for rotating around the map, Respawn have chosen to remove two redeploy balloons from the map: Outside Golden Gardens – Outside Orbital Cannon – As for when the new Olympus will be going live, that’s easy, as we already know Season 9: Legacy will get going on May 4, 2021. “Infested Olympus” should be live somewhere around then, along with Valkyrie and all of the other new content. Read More: Who is Valkyrie in Apex Legends? – The update will introduce new Legend Valkyrie, the Bocek Bow weapon, and the all-new Arenas mode.

OG Apex Legends skins returning soon according to leaks: Crypto, Wraith, Pathfinder Respawn EntertainmentA reliable Apex Legends leaker has revealed a variety of OG skins that are set to return in the weeks leading up to the release of Season 14. Whether it’s a seasonal patch, Collection Event, or store update, Respawn is constantly adding new and unique cosmetics for each of the characters on the Apex Legends roster. • OG Apex Legends character drops to rock bottom pick rate as players want change – Dexerto

OG Apex Legends character drops to rock bottom pick rate as players want change Respawn EntertainmentCaustic has dropped to having a rock-bottom pick rate in top-level play and Apex Legends players are furious as they want things to change. As Respawn Entertainment has made changes to the roster of characters in Apex Legends, there have been a few differences in the meta between casual players and those who operate at a higher level. Sure, there is a crossover when it comes to top characters like Pathfinder, Bloodhound, Lifeline, and Bangalore, but others are off the radar. Right now, Caustic, Ballistic, and Seer are the three least-used characters between Masters and Apex Predators, sitting with a pick rate of around 0.3% each. Caustic’s drop-off has annoyed players, especially as he’s been the target of nerfs over the last few updates. “It’s official: Caustic is now the lowest-picked legend at high-level play. The pros got what they wanted,” Redditor Zombz01 complained. However, ApexLegendsStatus has him second bottom. “The pros always get what they want and it always results in gutted characters. I’m sorry for people who bought heirlooms. What a joke,” another agreed. “God what a f*cking character before they nerfed him to f*ck,” one player said. “According to pros. Getting stuck in gas is inconvenient. As if running away as a Skirmisher is not an inconvenience for the opponent. Getting flanked from out of nowhere is not an inconvenience for the opponent,” another added. Others argued that the visible health bars, which were introduced in Season 22 and appear above players’ heads, was the nail in the coffin for him. “Health bar has f*cked Caustic over, because enemies will see you – or your health bar – through the gas,” one said. “Nonsense to put a health bar in smoke, gas, even mirage clones,” another said. That health bar has also affected Mirage, with players urging Respawn to rethink things. Hopefully, they’ll also give Caustic some attention too. He absolutely needs it.

  • Official Apex legends comics under fire for tracing fan art – Dexerto

Official Apex legends comics under fire for tracing fan art Respawn/EAThe official Apex Legends comics from Dark Horse Comics have come under from fans for apparently tracing fan art and putting it into the graphic novels without any credit. Ever since Apex Legends first launched back in February of 2019, the community has been awash with creative ideas, fan art, cosplays, and everything else you can think of. The battle royale has also expanded way beyond the virtual world too, with action figures and comics being made to give some more lore to the deeply diverse cast of characters. However, Dark Horse Comics – the company behind the official Apex Legends comics series – have come under fire for seemingly taking some of the best fan art around and simply tracing it into their work. On October 3, Twitter user Nessepack highlighted a piece of Octane fan art from 2019 that bears a striking resemblance to the upcoming comic release – Apex Legends Overtime 3. “Dark Horse back at it again with tracing stock poses AND fanarts,” they tweeted, and wasn’t long before other fans joined in the pile on, pointing out that in other releases, Octane has looked more buff than his usual in-game look and there has apparently been Wraith and Pathfinder fan art used too. “Dude they even just traced over Wattson. This is the comic we’re getting, and we have to PAY for it?!” said another fan. “They-are-tracing-fanart. The effort of someone else, the love for the franchise from someone else. I know this is not Respawn fault but… something has to be done!?” asked another. This is the comic we’re getting, and we have to PAY for it?! — Ginger Goober 🐌 (@GingerGoober) October 3, 2021 WHY DO THEY KEEO GIVING OCTANE FREAKING LEGS?!?!? pic.twitter.com/GH7cKwVJQj — RabbidRaccoon92 (@kmc4392) October 3, 2021 Tom Casiello, a former writer at Respawn for Apex Legends, also weighed in with a seemingly dismayed response of his own. “Sigh. It’s almost over,” he posted. As of writing, neither Respawn nor Dark Horse has addressed the backlash and the next installment of the comic series is set to launch on October 6. It remains to be seen if anything changes in the future.

  • Odd Apex Legends glitch turns Pathfinder into a flying kite – Dexerto

Odd Apex Legends glitch turns Pathfinder into a flying kite Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has figured out how to turn the Pathfinder into a flying kite thanks to an odd glitch in the game. Despite its success so far, there is no hiding the fact that Apex Legends continues to be littered with various bugs, glitches, and exploits. While some glitches are of the game-breaking variety, this most recent one is more on the lighter side of things, although it does have the potential of providing an advantage if exploited. Player turns Pathfinder into a kite On April 17, Reddit user ‘Stay_Curious85‘ posted a video in which he, playing as Pathfinder, manages to attach his Grappling Hook to the Octane’s Launch Pad that’s sitting on a supply crate, which in-turn allows the Legend to hover around like a kite while attached to the crate. The Reddit user also explained that another attempt, which he did not record, resulted in the Pathfinder hovering straight above the crate and high in the air, similar to a balloon tied with a string. Jump glitch in Apex Legends As the Reddit user in his post, his whole intention behind trying this trick was to find another way to exploit the notoriously powerful jump glitch that’s currently plaguing the game. The jump glitch essentially involves opening up a supply crate and punching it non-stop for a few minutes, which builds enough momentum that when you jump after all that punching, you fly extremely high and far on the map. The player explained that he was simply trying to take that to another level by using the Grappling Hook to get to the Launch Pad, instead of just jumping on it, thinking it would result in an even stronger jump. Recent craziness in Apex Legends As one user in the comments section rightfully pointed out, there has been a lot of “weird random crap” in the game recently, which could be attributed to the massive v1.1.1 update that went live on April 16. The update has already caused serious issues with Gibraltar and Caustic, causing confusion and inconsistencies with how their Body Armor works, as well as an unintended new ability given to Gibraltar which allows him to cast aside Arc Stars that are thrown his way. While the bugs and glitches in Apex Legends can be excused for now, since the game is still so young, but Respawn Entertainment should definitely start cleaning things up before they get too out of hand.

  • Odd Apex Legends glitch causes squads to get stuck in the sky – Dexerto

Odd Apex Legends glitch causes squads to get stuck in the sky It what seems to have become a daily thing, another glitch has been discovered in Apex Legends, and this one’s causing squads of players to get stuck in the sky off spawn. There is no denying that the pool of bugs, glitches, hacks, and exploits in Apex Legends has been growing at a steady rate since the game’s release back in February. While most of the bugs aren’t exactly game-breaking, many of them have the potential to affect how the game is played, and cause a lot of frustration to players. Bug causes squads to get stuck in the sky On May 2, a Reddit user named ‘SimpleBeings’ posted a video which showed a newly discovered bug in Apex Legends that was causing players to get stuck when trying to jump out of the deploy ship at the start of the match. In the clip, what appears to be at least three full squads jumped out of the deploy ship, but instead of gliding down, they were all stuck on top of each other like a giant mosh pit. Eventually, after about twelve seconds, the players were all untangled from each other and were finally able to start their descent onto the map. Potential cause for why this happened While the exact reason why these players were all stuck in the sky for more than 10 seconds remains a mystery, it could have something to do with how many jumped out right when the timer hit 00. The large number of players could have caused a disturbance in the game that led to it glitching and forcing the players to stay glued to each other. However, it’s always been common practice for many squads to try and deploy right at the beginning, which begs the question about why this hasn’t been seen more frequently, if that is indeed what’s causing it. Why this is an issue Other than the fact that it must be incredibly frustrating to be stuck in the sky with a bunch of enemy players, there is a larger problem with the effects of this glitch. The fact that all those players’ descent was delayed by over ten seconds means that they will be very much behind the pace when it comes to the initial dropping and looting phase of the game. Read More: Apex Legends player comes across mindblowing bug that causes teammates to insta-die for no reason – If there were players who managed to deploy correctly and land right at the start, they would have had a huge advantage over those stuck players who essentially were forced to start their match late.

  • Octane’s jump pad finally getting necessary nerf in Apex Legends Season 11 – Dexerto

Octane’s jump pad finally getting necessary nerf in Apex Legends Season 11 Respawn/EAAt long last, Octane’s Jump Pad is being tweaked in Apex Legends Season 11: Escape as players should finally be able to hear enemies launching off it. Octane’s pick rate in Apex Legends has picked up over the last few seasons, with players wanting to use his unique burst of speed to take fights with enemies. The Adrenaline Junkie’s jump pad ability has also been a big plus for those players wanting more movement, but it has been a point of annoyance for others. For the last few seasons, Apex players have constantly complained about a lack of sound coming from the pad, as they are left unaware that they are being flanked or jumped on by an Octane’s team. Well, that is finally going to change in Season 11. Respawn’s John ‘JayBiebs’ Larson, the associate live balance designer on Apex, noted that it will now be “quite obvious when nearby players are using pad and traveling through the air. The change to Octane’s jump pad was not mentioned at first in the Season 11: Escape patch notes but that has since changed. “Improvements to Jump Pad soundFX,” is now noted in the bug fixes section of the patch notes alongside the issues addressed for Fuse, Seer, Rampart, Pathfinder, and Wattson following Larson’s tweet. Looks like we actually missed that! But it’ll now be quite obvious when nearby players are using pad and traveling through the air. Shoutout to @denseclarity for making that change — JayBiebs (@RSPN_JayBiebs) October 28, 2021 While we can’t say for definite just the sound effects have been improved, it seems likely that Respawn has either added new, distinct sounds for players launching off the pad, or they’ve just increased the volume of the pre-existing ones. We’ll have to wait and see how the change shakes out when Season 11 starts on November 2, but players are glad that their long-standing frustrations are finally being looked at.

  • Octane’s full face revealed in new Apex Legends lorebook: Pathfinder’s Quest – Dexerto

Octane’s full face revealed in new Apex Legends lorebook: Pathfinder’s Quest Respawn EntertainmentWith Octane being one of only two fully masked Legends in Apex, the community has always wondered what ‘The Adrenaline Junkie’ looks like beneath his mask and goggles. Well, the release of Pathfinder’s Quest Book has finally given players the long-awaited face reveal they’ve been asking for. Since his release in Season 1, Octane has been a fan-favorite legend. His kit’s combination of enhanced movement and outright speed make him the perfect character for any player looking to aggressively take on gunfights. On top of this, Respawn has done an amazing job of making him an incredibly likable character with a great set of voice lines. His positive and hyped-up attitude towards everything he faces in the Apex Games has always made him popular. Despite all this – we’ve never actually seen what he looks like. Well, we’ve finally got our answer. Octane was released into Apex Legends on March 19, 2019. Octane’s face reveal If you’ve ever played Apex Legends and encountered Octane, you’ll know the energetic daredevil wears a green and black mask that completely covers his face. This has left players to speculate on his eye color, hair, and facial structure, but now, Respawn has finally released a photo of Octane without his mask. The picture of the Legend is found in the Pathfinder’s Quest book, released on February 2. The reception to the reveal has been mixed – but the majority agree that Respawn has nailed Octane’s appearance. For some, the inclusion of subtle imperfections in his facial features has made him a more believable and realistic character. Read More: Apex Legends Season 8 patch notes – “He looks great! I love the little imperfections, it makes him look more believable and human,” one user wrote. Another player even expressed that he was exactly how he imagined he’d look: “Exactly like I’d imagine a crazy adrenaline b*****d like him.” At the end of the day, as with any character’s face reveal, you’re not going to be able to please everybody. Fortunately, Respawn’s design of Octane’s face appears to have gone down well with the community overall. The question is, when is it Bloodhound’s turn to take off the mask? You can get the Pathfinder’s Quest book from Amazon, available now.

  • Octane trick lets you double jump from Apex Legends Gravity Cannons – Dexerto

Octane trick lets you double jump from Apex Legends Gravity Cannons Respawn EntertainmentA trick with Octane allows you to double jump while using the Gravity Cannons on Apex Legend’s newest map Storm Point. Gravity Cannons are the hottest trend right now in Apex Legends. Released with the new map in Season 11, the rotational tools have brought a breath of fresh air for players. They give players the chance to travel the map in style and pull off some exciting outplays that leave enemies baffled. However, you can take advantage of the Cannons with specific legends. A trick has been found when using Octane that allows you to double jump when inside the Cannon, and it makes getting around the map easier than ever. Octane Gravity Cannon exploit Since the release of Storm Point, crafty players have pulled off impressive outplays with Gravity Cannons by using the likes of Loba’s abilities. But now, players have found that using Octane’s jump pad lets you double jump while you’re traveling in the air. In the video uploaded on November 11, Apex Legends creator Mokeysniper showed multiple ways how can use Octane’s jump pad can be used to double jump in the cannon. The simple trick allows players to go even further than where they’re supposed to land, or they can shift off course and land somewhere entirely different as demonstrated numerous times in the video. There are multiple ways to do the trick, which were showcased in Mokeysniper’s video, and you can even do it all by yourself. It remains to be seen as to whether Respawn Entertainment will have to act and get rid of the trick, or if they’ll simply let it slide.

  • Octane’s stim glitch is back in Apex Legends Season 10 – Dexerto

Octane’s stim glitch is back in Apex Legends Season 10 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have discovered a new and improved version of the Octane stim glitch that first appeared in Season 6, and although it works differently, it’s can still be just as good. Apex Legends Season 6 introduced lots of new things to the game, and one of them was the unintentional addition of a holo spray exploit that allowed Octane players to get a bigger speed boost than normal. The premise was simple: By pressing the stim ability and holo spray together when Octane’s previous stim is about to run out, he can run with the effect for a little longer. It was also possible to repeatedly chain them. Of course, it was more or less removed from the game. However, players discovered a similar exploit in Season 10, and although it might not be directly related to the old one, it’s still considered a new and improved version. Timmy ‘iiTzTimmy’ An was chasing down an opponent with the Bocek Bow as Octane. And after activating the stim ability once, he ran through a Wraith portal and somehow activated it again after exiting it. Read More: Apex Legends “Elite Jump” guide – “Oh my god, I double stimmed, and I’m extra fast,” he said while running twice the normal speed. “I exploited. I don’t know what I did.” Unfortunately for iiTzTimmy, he got downed shortly after. However, the fact he seemingly discovered a new version of the exploit is big news. Players are still trying to figure out how it happened. And although it appears to be harder to pull off than the old version, if they can replicate it, it might become a common thing once again.

  • Octane Stim exploit lets players reload instantly in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Octane Stim exploit lets players reload instantly in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has discovered an Octane exploit that allows the High-Speed Daredevil to reload instantly using his Stim Tactical. Season 11 of Apex Legends is well underway and players are finally getting to grips with the new Legend Ash, powerful CAR SMG, and tropical Storm Point map. However, despite all of the new additions, players are still finding unique interactions and even exploits involving older Legends, one of which being Octane. The highly mobile daredevil has been in the game since Season 1 and has always been one of the most popular Legends on the entire roster. Now, an exploit has been discovered that revolves around his Tactical Stim ability, allowing him to instantly reload and avoid the animation. Octane exploit completely cancels reload animation Posted to the Apex Legends subreddit by ThatOneKachow, the user showcases an interaction involving specific weapon reload animations and Octane’s Stim ability. For whatever reason, if his Tactical is used while simultaneously reloading a gun, the bullets are immediately put into the chamber without having to finish the full animation. Although this exploit doesn’t work on every weapon in the game, after testing Apex’s entire arsenal, ThatOneKachow revealed the Flatline, Rampage, Hemlok, Prowler, CAR, P2020, RE45, G7 Scout, Longbow, and the Sentinel are all affected by this interaction. It’s hard to know whether this exploit has arrived with Escape, or has been a part of the game for multiple seasons. idk if this is new or not but I found a way to instantly reload on some weapons using an octane stim. (sorry for the mic quality, someone with actual editing software should definitely make a comparison video) (obviously do not abuse I’m just getting the word out so it can be fixed) byu/ThatOneKachow inapexlegends It’s safe to say that this exploit is incredibly powerful and has the potential to influence intense gunfights. In the final circle, every second counts, so nullifying the full reload animation could be the difference-maker and will need to be addressed by Respawn. While this isn’t a game-breaking bug, it has the potential to give players an unfair advantage, so we’ll have to wait and see how long it takes for the devs to fix the issue.

  • Octane players at big disadvantage in Apex Legends as launch pads are totally broken – Dexerto

Octane players at big disadvantage in Apex Legends as launch pads are totally broken Respawn EntertainmentOctane’s Launch Pad is an essential part of the High-Speed Daredevil’s kit, but since the Season 12 update, the ability hasn’t been working as intended for everyone in Apex Legends. The Defiance seasonal update has finally arrived in Apex Legends and it’s introduced a revamped Olympus map, Mad Maggie, and of course the 9v9 Control mode to the game. However, despite all of these positive additions, Octane mains have been noticing a huge issue with their Launch Pad Ultimate since Season 12 went live. For whatever reason, the ability will occasionally just not work, causing the daredevil to run past the pad as if it hadn’t been placed. Of course, this is a significant bug, and with Octane currently sitting as the most popular Legend in the game, could this affect his pick rate? Octane bug makes Launch Pad Ultimate completely useless As showcased by tEH_ReALDeadPoole on the ApexUniversity subreddit, once the Ultimate is placed down, sometimes Octane will just clip through the Launch Pad. While some players have speculated it’s down to a specific location on Olympus, there are multiple clips of this happening on Kings Canyon as well. Based on the comments from the community, it appears the bug has been happening frequently since the Season 12 update, so it must be tied to a change that came with Defiance. Despite tEH_ReALDeadPoole attempting to jump, slide, and run onto the pad multiple times, it is rendered completely useless by the bug. With Octane being by far the most popular Legend in the game, this is definitely going to result in multiple players being killed which will lead to a lot of frustration. Respawn needs to fix this glitch as quickly as possible, as it even has the potential to affect the daredevil’s pick rate if it remains a problem for multiple weeks.

  • Octane overtakes Wraith for Apex Legends second most used character as her slide continues – Dexerto

Octane overtakes Wraith for Apex Legends second most used character as her slide continues Respawn EntertainmentOctane has surpassed Wraith as the second-most-popular character in Apex Legends, keeping Wraith on a slide since Pathfinder took over the top spot. Apex Legends may have a wide range of characters for players to choose from, but, just like every other game, it settles into a meta when the action becomes more competitive than normal. For the last few years, Wraith had always been a key part of the meta and stood alone at the top of the most-used legends charts. She was dethroned for a small period of time by Octane a few seasons ago, but she quickly regained that spot. Over the last few weeks, however, Wraith’s pick rate has been on a bit of a slide. Pathfinder’s recent buff saw him leap into the top spot and he’s really taken hold of that, with his pick rate continuing to grow. Wraith’s pick rate slide continues in Apex Legends as Octane leapfrogs into second While Pathy is firmly the number one choice, Octane has jumped above Wraith into second place, continuing her slide down the charts. As per ApexLegendsStatus, a stat-tracking website for Respawn’s battle royale, Octane and Wraith have matched each other with a 10.2% pick ratio. Though, when you dive deeper into that numbers, Octane has just edged her out at an exact 10.178%, with Wraith clocking in at 10.158%. Though, she isn’t in danger of falling much further than third place. Bangalore sits in fourth with a 7.861% pick rate and her pick rate isn’t exactly going to rocket up any time soon. Wraith’s standing in the pick rate charts appears to be suffering due to Octane’s popularity with more casual players. At the top level, Wraith remains much more popular with Apex Predators and Master-ranked players. So, we’ll have to wait and see if that sways things moving forward.

  • New Octane jump pad glitch gives Apex Legends speedster ridiculous new buffs – Dexerto

New Octane jump pad glitch gives Apex Legends speedster ridiculous new buffs Respawn EntertainmentA new Octane jump pad glitch has been discovered in Apex Legends Season 11, giving the High-Speed Daredevil an insane movement buff all allies can use. You can launch yourself half-way across Storm Point, and even throw your abilities three to four times further. Apex Legends players pride themselves on their movement. From tap-strafing to super-gliding and everything in between, the little edges make the biggest of differences. Octane’s jump pad is one of the better movement abilities in the game, bouncing you from one location to the next. However, a new glitch in Apex Legends Season 11 has given “jump” a whole new meaning — it’s more like a rocket launch. Apex Legends pro Apryze was among the first to discover it, coming across it in a random ranked game. Before long, he was launching himself across the map with a super jump off the pad, taking him many times further than usual. It might seem random, but there’s some logic to the bug. The Octane jump pad glitch can be activated in one of two ways, according to Mokeysniper: Place a jump pad on the edge of a Prowler’s Nest on Storm Point and run around it. – Place a jump pad so it’s touching a death box, and then run on top of the death box. – The glitch doesn’t just affect Octane. Any Legend can take advantage of it — but Octane needs to drop the pad first though. It also does more than give you a super jump. It allows you to throw your abilities and grenades even further. If you try to fire your gun afterwards too, your first few bullets will travel much faster. It’s like everything has been stimmed by Octane. The glitch does have some drawbacks. You only get one charge of the super jump before you have to activate the glitch again. Also, running over uneven terrain like rocks will use up the charge. To test it out, you can deploy a holospray — if it gets thrown far across the map, you’re still good. The one charge could be enough to get your team out of a sticky situation with a huge jump, or surprise some enemies. Obviously, it’s a glitch, and so it’ll eventually be removed by Respawn — especially considering they intended to nerf Octane in Apex Legends Season 11. However, if you want to have a bit of fun and test the limits of Apex’s movement, give it a whirl.

  • Octane Heirloom set revealed for Apex Legends System Override event – Dexerto

Octane Heirloom set revealed for Apex Legends System Override event Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment have finally revealed Octane’s new Heirloom set in Apex Legends Season 4, which will be coming as part of the new System Override Collection Event. Heirlooms are the rarest type of cosmetic items in Apex Legends; they’re often very difficult and costly to obtain from regular Apex Packs. There are currently only four sets in the game, one for Wraith, Bloodhound, Lifeline, and Pathfinder. On March 3, with the launch of the recently-announced System Override Collection Event, Octane will become the fifth Legend to have his own set, and the premier item is a butterfly knife. The knife features a green and black color scheme, the same used for Octane himself. It’s definitely got an elegant design to it, and the central green section looks like flowing liquid, similar to the serum the Legend uses to boost his speed. Much like how the weapon functions in CS:GO, for example, players will be able to twirl it around their fingers as they zoom across the World’s Edge map with The Adrenaline Junkie. Read More: New Evo Shield coming soon to Apex Legends – As has been the case for the first four sets, Octane’s Heirloom will include three items in total – the butterfly knife melee weapon skin, a banner pose, and intro quip – the latter two haven’t been revealed yet. How to get “free” Octane Heirloom As has been the case for the past few Heirloom sets released in Apex Legends, this new one for Octane will technically be “free,” since players won’t need to actually purchase it directly. Once System Override kicks off, there will be 24 event-exclusive cosmetic items available in packs, direct purchase, or crafting. Once you unlock all 24 items, Octane’s Heirloom will be automatically added to your inventory. Read More: Smart Pistol is NOT coming to Apex Legends – So don’t get too excited about EA calling the set “free,” since you’ll still have to probably spend a good chunk of change collecting the other cosmetics. That said, it will be a lot cheaper and faster to unlock it this way rather than waiting after the event, when it will only be available in regular Apex Packs. New Heirloom Shards system in Apex Legends In addition to Octane’s new set, Respawn also announced that a major change to Heirlooms was coming soon in the form of Shards: “We’re changing up the Heirloom system to make it easier for you to acquire the heirloom you want. Instead of an entire Heirloom set dropping at once, you’ll now receive Heirloom shards. You can then use those shards to pick the exact Heirloom set you’d like. The shards will have the same drop rate as the previous system so that after 500 Apex Packs, you will have enough Heirloom Shards to obtain an Heirloom set from the Heirloom shop. And don’t worry, your existing progress towards the 500 Apex Packs will carry over with the switch. Remember that once a player owns all of the Heirloom sets, the player will not be eligible to receive more shards until more Heirloom Sets are added to the game.” For more details about how this new system will work, make sure to visit our Apex Legends Heirloom Shards info page. Apex Legends System Override Collection Event This new event, one of the bigger ones we’ve had since the launch of Season 4, will be kicking off on Tuesday, March 3 for two weeks, wrapping up on Tuesday, March 17. It will feature a new limited-time mode called Deja Loot, which will be played on both World’s Edge and Kings Canyon, and will debut a new type of equipment called Evo Shield. There will also be several cosmetics that can be unlocked for free by grinding the game during that time, in addition to the 24 items and Octane’s Heirloom set.

  • Apex Legends players discover epic movement trick with Gibraltar and Octane – Dexerto

Apex Legends players discover epic movement trick with Gibraltar and Octane Apex Legends players have discovered a powerful and hilarious trick using Octane to give Gibraltar some advanced movement capabilities. Gibraltar is known as one of the weaker Legends in Apex, and part of the reason for that is his large hitbox in combination with a complete lack of additional mobility options, which generally make him one of the easiest targets in the game. With a little help from Octane, however, it turns out he can actually become one of the most mobile characters in the game. Octane’s ultimate ability, which deploys a single jump pad, isn’t one of the strongest in the game – it can be used to traverse buildings quickly or to throw off enemies with additional mobility in a fight, but its applications are ultimately fairly limited. In addition to its relatively fast charge time, then, it’s no great sacrifice to spend it transferring some of Octane’s movement skills to Gibraltar, especially when the result is so epic. It turns out that if Gibraltar holds up his shield, then Octane’s Jump Pad can be deployed onto it. At this point, Gibraltar can use it to continuously launch himself by aiming it at the ground. GIBRALTOAD from r/apexlegends It’s worth noting that once the jump pad is stuck to the Gibraltar, it doesn’t appear that other players can make use of it, simply running through both the jump pad and the Gibraltar. In order to make use of this trick, Gibraltar must keep his shield up by aiming down sights throughout, as dropping the shield will cause the jump pad to disappear. It also won’t remain indefinitely, but can certainly be both useful for covering distances and extremely fun while it lasts. This isn’t the only way this bizarre interaction can be used, however. The ability to place deployable objects on Gibraltar’s shield was previously discovered by players stacking towers of Caustic’s gas traps on it. Unfortunately, Apex developers Respawn are already aware of this tactic, and so it’s worth making the most of both before they’re likely patched out. The Apex developers have been fairly tough on movement tricks they consider bugs, already announcing their intention to “fix” the bunny-hopping trick which many players feel actually raises the game’s skill ceiling and should therefore remain, so it seems unlikely that Respawn will grant clemency to something as ridiculous as this Octane and Gibraltar combo.

  • This Octane ‘finisher’ should be added to Apex Legends immediately – Dexerto

This Octane ‘finisher’ should be added to Apex Legends immediately Electronic ArtsAn Apex Legends fan has made a finisher for new Legend Octane that looks good enough to be added to the game tomorrow. Octane is the newest addition to Apex’s line-up of Legends, and the first added to the game since its launch. An adrenaline junkie and former daredevil, Octane is all about speed and momentum using his Stim and Launch Pad abilities to traverse the map. The addition of a new character always inspires some creativity from fans, and Apex Legends player u/Hexedz went above and beyond by animating an entirely new “finisher” move for Octane that wouldn’t look out of place if it had been made by Respawn themselves. Finishers are about eliminating enemies in style. Though technically they conserve ammo compared to simply shooting your opponent after they’ve been downed, finishers take several seconds to complete, during which time you’re vulnerable to attack. They’re also interrupted by taking damage, so in order to complete one you need to have the opponent entirely at your mercy, despite knowing that their team-mates must still be alive – otherwise they’d simply bleed out. Forcing an opponent to watch as you take a time out to showboat while eliminating them is therefore perhaps the ultimate disrespect. In u/Hexedz’s finisher, called “Running Circles”, Octane does just that, looping around his enemy quickly before ending by breaking their neck with a flourish and posing for the camera. The finisher hasn’t just been popular with fans, but even caught the eye of Respawn themselves, with a developer complimenting u/Hexedz on his work. Unfortunately for fans of the move, however, chances are it will never actually appear in the game even though many would consider it of high enough quality.

  • Octane buff in Apex Legends has unintended side-effect for healing – Dexerto

Octane buff in Apex Legends has unintended side-effect for healing Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer cgdaanpd]The Lost Treasures Collection Event patch gave Octane a healthy speed boost in Apex Legends, but players are finding that it can negate the slow-effect of heals – something that might not be an intended feature of his Stim ability. After the June 23 update, the Adrenaline Junkie’s Tactical ability now lets him remove movement impairing effects. Respawn Entertainment dev Daniel Klein further clarified these changes, saying that it was “more of a one-time cleanse when you pop the stim.” Although, some are confused as to what the Stim protects against and Klein made clear that Octane could get slowed again even if his Tactical was activated. This threw off players after a video surfaced showing the Legend being able to heal without any impairments to his speed. After playing around with the ability, one player found that Octane can negate the natural slows while using a heal, even after applying the syringe: “Octane’s slow removal works for heals! All aboard the Octrain!” An interaction like this would be extremely beneficial for Octane players, seeing how the Legend would be able to run laps around the Arena while popping Phoenix Kits and Shield Batteries. The language used in the patch notes and Klien’s explanation for the Stim’s limitations make it clear that this isn’t an intended result from using his ability, but rather an unintended side-effect. In fact, another developer put Octane players on notice, saying that this interaction was indeed a glitch in the Apex system and to get the most use out of it while it’s in the game. Lead Game Designer at Respawn Entertainment Carlos ‘Pinedsman’ Pineda responded to a question involving the strange instance, and confirmed that “it’s a bug, enjoy it while you can!” This presumably means the next patch will have a fix preventing Octanes from sneaking past the slows that come with the heals and shields around the Games. Respawn have been making a concerted push in Season 5 to balance every character in Apex Legends, so don’t expect to see this unintended buff last much longer.

  • Octane ability buff would be perfect for Apex Legends Season 5 – Dexerto

Octane ability buff would be perfect for Apex Legends Season 5 EALoba is primed to make a grand entrance in Apex Legends Season 5, but could this Octane buff help the Adrenaline Junkie compete with the new character? Octane has been a staple part of the Apex Legends cast since Season 1. Despite one of the more popular Legends, the adrenaline loving character has one of the most lackluster ability sets in the game. Aside from his Swift Mend Passive (the ability to heal over time), Octane offers very little in the way of giving players a tactical advantage — compared with Pathfinder, for example, who can grapple their way onto the high-ground and make it difficult for enemies to engage. While Mirage is confirmed to be getting a buff during Season 5, plenty of Octane mains have been longing for some tweaks to their character of choice for some time. This has led one Reddit user to devise a concept which Respawn could use as a template for what tweaks Octane would need. As part of the rework, the Redditor has completely overhauled their Passive while also tweaking both the Tactical and the Ultimate — making for a very interesting final product. Perhaps most alarming to Octane mains, the Swift Mend Passive has been scrapped and replaced with an alternative, movement-based option. Essentially, players would have a 5% speed increase when running and on all other movements performed inside the game. In terms of the changes to the Tactical, Octane’s Stim movement speed would be boosted from 30% to 35%, but in exchange for the marginal increase, the base cooldown would be increased by eight seconds. And while Octane still has their trusty Launch Pad for their Ultimate, the Redditor’s concept would allow it to propel Legends much further in the air — akin to how The Geyser works in World’s Edge. While Octane’s movement buff would considerably benefit Octane mains, the Passive would need to be nerfed slightly than what’s on paper here — a base increase when aiming down sight and evading trouble would likely be overpowered. To top things off, the Adrenaline Junkie’s ability to heal over time is one of his greatest assets, so stripping that away from him would be almost criminal.

  • Apex Legends crashes fixed by March Nvidia driver update – Dexerto

Apex Legends crashes fixed by March Nvidia driver update Nvidia have released an update for their Game Ready driver that fixes an issue causing Apex Legends to crash. The launch of Apex Legends has been an enormous success, becoming one of the most popular games in the world almost overnight following its relatively sudden release on February 4. While the game’s launch was remarkably smooth by the standards often expected of a title releasing to such massive immediate interest, that doesn’t mean that players have experienced no issues. By far the most significant problem facing the game in its first weeks has been a tendency for crashes for some players. While much of the player-base has enjoyed the game largely uninterrupted, some find themselves periodically dropped out of games without warning. Fortunately for players using an Nvidia graphics card, however, at least one source of these crashes may now have been fixed. The latest update to the GeForce Game Ready WHQL driver, version 419.35, is optimized for Apex Legends alongside Devil May Cry 5 and The Division 2, and specifically addresses the “DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG” bug that causes Apex to crash. While this error may not be the only cause of crashes in Apex, it should at least reduce the frequency of issues for players with Nvidia graphics cards. The driver update can be downloaded through the GeForce Experience app. Despite the issues, Apex’s popularity doesn’t seem to have suffered too much. Respawn Entertainment revealed on March 4 that the game had surpassed 50 million players worldwide just a month after launch – a feat that took Fortnite almost four times as long. Respawn themselves have also addressed a variety of in-game bugs and exploits since the release, and are expected to launch the game’s inaugural season on March 12.

  • Number one Arenas player in Apex Legends caught boosting in Ranked – Dexerto

Number one Arenas player in Apex Legends caught boosting in Ranked Respawn EntertainmentThe number one Ranked Arenas player in Apex Legends has been caught boosting in an attempt to climb even higher in Predator. Apex Legends utilizes the Easy Anti-Cheat system to detect players using third-party software to gain an unfair advantage over their competition. While this is effective for banning those using hacks, the anti-cheat can’t suspend cheaters who are boosting for RP and AP as there is no software to detect. Boosting has become a massive issue in Arenas as the playerbase is smaller, allowing cheaters to queue up at the same time and trade over free wins. Well, the highest Ranked Arenas player on the Xbox leaderboards has been caught “blatantly” cheating, asking for other players to boost so they can gain free AP. Highest-ranked Arenas player caught boosting in Apex Legends Posted to the Apex Legends subreddit on July 12, a user has showcased the huge amount of boosting going on in Ranked Arenas. Reddit user Easy-Row-4209 caught the number one Ranked Xbox Arenas player in Predator asking for other competitors to help them boost their rank. With a total of 16,420 AP, the cheater is sitting at the top of the leaderboards and seems to have been unfairly gaining points for a long time now. This is extremely concerning for those who enjoy climbing Arenas Ranked, as Respawn is seemingly unable to detect boosters. While the anti-cheat cannot detect these players, Respawn employees can manually ban them if they’re shown proof that they’re cheating. Well, Security Analyst for Apex Conor ‘Hideouts’ Ford revealed in a recent stream that he’s aware of these boosters and is going to take action against them soon. “yee, boutta s**t on all the players abusing arenas stuff in Ranked”. Fingers crossed these punishments arrive as soon as possible so the leaderboards showcase a more accurate picture of the current rankings. With boosting in BR and Arenas becoming a serious and common issue, Respawn may have to come up with a new system that doesn’t just rely on manual bans if they want to eradicate it for good.

  • Number one Apex Legends Mobile player is hacking & advertising cheats – Dexerto

Number one Apex Legends Mobile player is hacking & advertising cheats Respawn EntertainmentThe number one Apex Legends Mobile player in Predator has been caught using cheats and is even advertising hacks in their name. Just like Apex Legends on PC and console, Apex Mobile suffers from a huge amount of cheaters who use third-party software to gain an unfair advantage over their foes. These hacks usually come in the form of aimbots, enhanced movement, or even the ability to see every enemy on the map. Well, the hacking problem has got so severe on Mobile that the number one player is openly advertising cheats in their name and instantly wiping out players at the beginning of ranked matches. Number one Apex Legends Mobile Predator is openly cheating Taking to Twitter on January 1, Apex Mobile YouTuber icyiosYT showcased a clip of them and their entire squad being instantly wiped out by a cheater at the beginning of a match. The hacker managed to kill all three players before they hit the ground and after further inspection, icy realized that the hacker is actually the number one ranked player on Apex Mobile. With 21,507 RP in Predator, it’s clear this cheater has been abusing third-party software for a long time while dodging any punishment. Not only that, the player is opening advertising a cheating website in their name, but is still holding the top spot on the ladder. A lot of the community are convinced that “this proves there is 0 anti-cheat” and that there is “there is no actual banning system” to detect third-party software. If the top spots on the Ranked leaderboard are being taken by cheaters, it disincentives players to climb as there’s no competitive integrity or reason to reach Predator.

  • NRG pro Ace explains how Respawn could fix Apex Legends’ “boring” gameplay – Dexerto

NRG pro Ace explains how Respawn could fix Apex Legends’ “boring” gameplay NRG pro Brandon ‘Ace’ Winn was an early adopter of Apex Legends but changes to its gameplay and meta have made it “super boring” – but he also knows how to fix it. Respawn’s battle royale made a huge impact on the genre’s market immediately after its February 4 release. But the hype train for the game has significantly slowed down since multiple bugs, costly in-game items and issues with player connections have soured the experience for many. While there’s a ton of people still loading into the game, some pro players in the scene have voiced what direction Respawn could take to bring some excitement back into the Apex Games. Answering questions from his Twitch Chat, Ace revealed why Apex doesn’t quite hit the mark it used to in terms of its enjoyment – noting concerns voiced by many pros. “The gameplay is just not that fun for me anymore,” he said. “The meta is terrible, the games are just super boring, and it’s a battle royale so it’s just not fun.” A contributing factor to the “boring” games lies in the skill-based matchmaking that a ton of notable streamers have pushed back against. The pro has had a ton of thoughts on SBMM in the game before, and its persistence in Apex Legends has led to some wild theories as to why the devs haven’t taken it out after so much backlash. Aside from SMBB, the meta in Apex caters to long-range engagements which “doesn’t make sense” to Ace, seeing as the excitement of combat gets amplified the closer combatants are to each other. “They just have to make the meta completely close-engagements so it would actually be fun,” he said. “Instead of long-range sniper meta, that just doesn’t make sense.” Getting players back into the tense action of close-quarter fights throughout the game could go a long way for retaining Apex’s excitement. As much as Apex Legends has changed for those who’ve been playing since launch, Ace still thinks there’s a way to mix up the game to bring back some of the lost thrills of past seasons.

  • NRG’s dizzy explains why he’s retiring from professional Apex Legends – Dexerto

NRG’s dizzy explains why he’s retiring from professional Apex Legends One of the biggest names in Apex Legends esports, Colby ‘dizzy‘ Meadows, has parted ways with NRG Esports and retired from competitive play in order to ‘focus on new pursuits.’ Despite having only launched in 2019, Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends has already lost one of its biggest esports superstars as dizzy has stepped away from the competitive scene. In a December 10 announcement, dizzy revealed he would be no longer be competing at the professional level in Apex Legends. Looking to start a new chapter in his life, the former pro has parted ways with NRG Esports and will be focusing primarily on streaming the battle royale title and “expanding his content.” Throughout a lengthy statement, the popular player elaborated on his surprising decision and explained what led to his departure from the competitive side of Apex Legends. “When Apex Legends was announced and released, I dropped everything and focused on grinding it out. I was just doing what I love to do,” he expressed. “Some of you may have noticed that over the past few months my stream has been inconsistent. I’ve had some personal challenges and really needed to decide what my passion was going to be.” “I have finally made my decision,” he asserted, outlining that he will no longer be “competing professionally” in Apex Legends but will instead shift his efforts towards streaming. After a month-long break from Twitch, dizzy is set to make his return to the platform on December 11. “Catch me tomorrow for my return stream,” the statement concluded. Having actively competed since the inception of competitive Apex, dizzy achieved a wide array of first-place finishes throughout a number of major events and made a name for himself with his highly aggressive playstyle. From bursting onto the scene in the North American Twitch Rivals competitions and stomping consecutive weekly Code Red tournaments, to his most recent victory at TwitchCon 2019 which netted him $60,000, dizzy was in rarified air at the very top of the competitive Apex scene. Having amassed a following of over 700,000 fans on Twitch and just under half a million subscribers on YouTube, the flashy plays and engaging personality of dizzy clearly struck a chord within the Apex Legends community. “He won the hearts of fans all across the world, and helped NRG explode into the apex scene,” NRG stated in an announcement of dizzy’s departure from the organization. “After much consideration, he has decided to take a step back and retire from competitive Apex Legends.” this year @dizzy became a breakout star. he won the hearts of fans all across the world, and helped NRG explode into the apex scene. after much consideration, he has decided to take a step back and retire from competitive apex legends. thank you for everything❤️#NRGfam forever pic.twitter.com/xCXlZAETwK — NRG (@NRGgg) December 11, 2019 One of the best to ever compete in the battle royale title, it’s evident that dizzy won’t be parting ways with the game entirely. • Dizzy has strong message for Apex Legends haters on Twitch – Dexerto

Dizzy has strong message for Apex Legends haters on Twitch Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends professional player Coby ‘dizzy’ Meadows has hit out at the game’s critics, after becoming frustrated with comments being made during his Twitch livestreams. Respawn Entertainment’s popular battle royale title has attracted an increased level of criticism mainly after the release of the Season 1 Battle Pass, with a section of the game’s fanbase arguing that it needs more new content. However, NRG Esports’ dizzy has revealed that while comments such as this, and claims that the game is “dead,” have become very popular among the online community, he’d rather not see them while he’s playing. Dizzy’s message to Apex Legends haters “When I’m streaming, all of the ‘Apex is dead’ comments and shit is so annoying like who the fuck cares, it’s a video game to entertain us,” the pro player tweeted on April 27, clearly unhappy with how the game is being perceived by some gamers. For those who have been watching dizzy’s streams on Twitch, and have been calling for him to play another game, he simply said: “Keep it to yourself,” during the same Twitter post. when i’m streaming all the “apex is dead” comments and shit is so annoying like who the fuck cares it’s a video game to entertain us. and people be coming in my chat to tell me they ain’t gon watch me play a diff game like just keep it to yourself. to all the real ones i fw you.. — NRG dizzy (@Dizzy) April 27, 2019 Dizzy has enjoyed a tremendously successful vein of form, where competitive competitions are concerned, while playing Apex Legends since its shock February 4 release. Many fans would argue that the player carried Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins to his first Apex Legends victory during Twitch rivals and he has continued that with Code Red tournaments wins as well – currently the winningest player in prize money. Whether or not this strong message, from somebody of this stature, will go some way in preventing more negativity surrounding Apex Legends in the future remains to be seen. However, it’s crystal clear that he doesn’t want to see it in his own broadcasts.

  • NRG departs Apex Legends & blames EA for not supporting esports – Dexerto

NRG departs Apex Legends & blames EA for not supporting esports Joe Brady/ ALGSNRG Esports have announced its exit from Apex Legends esports, citing EA’s lack of support for esports and organizations as a major reason for leaving. After five years in Apex Legends, with multiple streamers and professional players cycling through the organization, NRG have decided to exit the esport. The company has released the players on its ALGS squad and dropped many of its Apex Legends content creators months ago. The organization cited EA and Respawn’s lack of support for the esport and the teams that compete in it as a major reason for its exit. “With the release of our team, I can also confirm that NRG will not be fielding a roster for ALGS going forward. We feel EA/Respawn have not done enough to support orgs and made the tough call to take a step back,” Jaime Cohenca, the Chief Gaming Officer at NRG Esports, said on social media. Over the course of the orgs time in the Battle Royale title, NRG have no S-Tier trophies to its name but have placed in the top 15 at multiple events with its highest placement being the 2023 Split 1 Playoff at second place. NRG joins litany of esports organizations leaving Apex Legends NRG is just the latest esports organization to exit Apex Legends. Cloud9, G2 Esports and Team Liquid have all exited the esport this year as the industry continues to fight economic headwinds and with EA reportedly not giving organizations opportunities to make revenue through in-game cosmetic sales. According to a report from Digiday, EA and Respawn stopped plans to introduce revenue sharing with organizations for in-game item sales with 20 different teams. EA allegedly offered teams a $60,000 licensing fee and some organizations reportedly sent a letter to EA to voice their displeasure with the proposal and to offer a counter-proposal, with the company rejecting it. Afterward, many of those organizations dropped their ALGS squads and left the competitive title. Longtime NRG player Christopher ‘sweetdreams’ Sexton put a statement on social media announcing the organization’s exit from the esport and giving fans an update on the roster. He said the squad will compete in Year 4 of the ALGS, but gave no promises that all the three players will stick together. “NRG leaving Apex is without a doubt a sad moment for the esport, as it may foreshadow further issues, but I am excited to find a new place to call home and work to build up this game to live up to its potential,” sweetdreams said.

  • NRG Ace baffled after Apex Legends bug negates Ring damage during scrims – Dexerto

NRG Ace baffled after Apex Legends bug negates Ring damage during scrims Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro Brandon ‘Ace’ Winn was surprised to see a bug during NRG’s scrims that prevented someone from taking damage in the zone. In the waning moments of a match, the NRG lineup was spectating the rest of the field after getting eliminated. That’s when a tight rotation at the turn of the fifth round by Complexity’s Ryan ‘Reptar’ Boyd made him veer into the Ring. In the fourth round of a match, going outside of the circle’s perimeters inflicts 20 damage per tick to players. Staying in the zone at that point, even for a short period of time, would be enough to dish out massive damage. Reptar’s rotation back to his team saw him go into the zone, open a door, turn back around to close it, and skimming halfway across the room to regroup with the rest of his Complexity squad. That’s when Ace was wide-eyed after noticing that the spectator cam didn’t register the damage that the player should have accrued for his time in the circle. “What?!” Ace said. “Did you guys see Reptar?! That guy was in the zone for a cool four seconds and did not take damage!” It’s unclear if it was a simple spectator bug that didn’t relay the damage Reptar would have taken. But in the ensuing fights that saw bullets exchanged between multiple teams, player damage was being tracked and update like it normally would. Ace was shocked to see the bug live, later joking with his Twitch chat: “‘New Gibby buff.’ That s**t looks foul. ‘I would’ve been chunked for 80,’ that’s what I’m saying.” The occasional bug like this could present a problem for production or teams during the inaugural campaign in the Apex Legends Global Series. Keeping track of a battle royale match already presents multiple factors for audiences to keep track of, a visual glitch would only add to the chaos of reading the battlefield. On the other hand, a bug with the zone that negates its damage would present a major problem for any competitive match. In either case, it’s likely going to be something Respawn takes a look at to polish their game for the 2020 esports circuit.

  • Clever Noxious buff could help Caustic rival Gibraltar in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Clever Noxious buff could help Caustic rival Gibraltar in Apex Legends EAAfter the Grand Soirée event update in Apex Legends, Gibraltar is now more powerful than ever, but this Caustic buff could be the secret ingredient to rival the Shielded Fortress. Following Apex Legends’ Grand Soirée event update, Gibraltar was given with a significant improvement on their Passive Abilities, with a quicker revive time with cover from all angles under their ‘Dome of Protection.’ This, according to popular Mixer streamer, Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek, has rendered Legends like Lifeline useless in the game’s current meta. Labeled the ‘tanks’ of the Apex Games, Gibraltar and Caustic both have the same movement speed as the nippy Interdimensional Skirmisher, Wraith. What lets both Legends down, however, is their larger hitbox and reduced mobility in tight situations. Since Gibraltar has received a ton of buffs to compensate, Caustic is seemingly being left behind in the dust. Yet, one player has other ideas for the Toxic Trapper. Posted to the Apex Legends subreddit, loremaster FrozenFroh has devised a savvy way of providing Caustic with handy boost to his nox-related abilities. The mad scientist would receive a quicker deployment time for his Nox Gas Trap, by halving the animation from two seconds to one. Alongside utilizing the gas faster, it would also have a slightly increased radius — meaning that the devastating effects would harm enemies who are further away as part of the buff. Finally, Caustic’s teammates wouldn’t have to suffer the adverse effects of Nox’s Tactical Ability (e.g., inhibited vision), for the first 3-4 seconds of sprinting through the gas. One Reddit user took the liberty of explaining how Caustic was better suited to the more compact spaces that Kings Canyon brought: “When the map changed, I could not play him anymore. He is way too big to be frolicking around the fields of World’s Edge.” FrozenFroh agreed, writing: “Kings Canyon had way more closer spaces and he really did shine – buildings were smaller, too. Even in World’s Edge, the smallest buildings have enough space to hug the wall and not be punished by the gas.” Since Caustic’s last buff halved the magnitude of the speed reduction effects, Respawn may be skeptical about tweaking his Gas Trap ability for allies. However, reducing deployment time and gas radius could bolster Caustic’s chances in World’s Edge.

  • Notorious Apex Legends ‘second-life’ exploit finally patched in new hotfix – Dexerto

Notorious Apex Legends ‘second-life’ exploit finally patched in new hotfix Respawn EntertainmentOne of Apex Legends’ original and most notorious exploits, which allowed players to retain the ability to shoot their weapons while downed, has finally been addressed in a new hotfix pushed live in Respawn’s battle royale this week. Plenty of exploits have plagued Respawn’s battle royale since its debut a year ago, but none have risen to notoriety quite like Apex’s ‘second-life’ glitch, aka the ‘shoot-while-downed’ bug, which gives players a chance beyond defeat. This game-breaking bug was rare, but even popped up in ranked lobbies. Players would retain the ability to use and, more importantly, shoot their weapons after being knocked when the bug struck. It would often decide entire firefights. Earlier this month, Apex devs responded to calls for the bug to be squashed once and for all, and finally confirmed they had a fix on the way. Two weeks later, they have now unveiled the hotfix meant to eradicate the exploit for good. The notorious exploit has finally been put to pasture in a newly-released April 30 hotfix, Respawn confirmed: “Today we pushed through a quick patch that fixed an exploit which allowed players to shoot their weapon when downed.” Heads up, Legends! Today we pushed through a quick patch that fixed an exploit which allowed players to shoot their weapon when downed. — Apex Legends (@PlayApex) May 1, 2020 This change will be a welcome relief for many, even if the wait as a particularly lengthy one. Respawn’s move to stomp out the exploit is also quite timely — ranked queues are set to reset with Season 5’s arrival on May 12. Unfortunately, the ‘second-life’ bug wasn’t the only problem plaguing Apex across its Season 4 lifespan. Mirage has been dogged by an odd bug that auto-revives enemies in battle, which has seen his play-rate plummet even lower. Dexerto can only assume this Mirage bug was left untouched due to the major rework the Holographic Trickster is set to receive in Season 5. Considering many of Mirage’s abilities will change, Respawn will likely patch out the bug then too.

  • Notorious Apex Legends ALGS hacker returns by invading ImperalHal & Mande’s lobbies – Dexerto

Notorious Apex Legends ALGS hacker returns by invading ImperalHal & Mande’s lobbies EADestroyer2009, the individual who hacked pro Apex Legends players during an ALGS match, has returned at the tail end of Season 20 by invading streamer Mikkel ‘Mande’ Hestbek and Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen’s ranked lobbies. Mande loaded into the final day of Apex Legends Season 20 to boost his final ranked placement on stream on May 7. His stream was later invaded by notorious Apex Legends hacker Destroyer2009, who took over Mande’s ranked lobbies. The hacker matched with Mande and his duo partner and quickly took over the lobby with bot accounts all under the same Russian text name. The lobby appeared to be a kill farm match, in which one player eliminates dozens of bots to boost their ranked placement. Mande asked in the game’s voice chat if this was the famed ALGS hacker and Destroyer2009 eventually hopped into voice chat for a second to say hello to the streamer. The hacker matched with Mande for only a few games, letting the streamer kill bots or attacking him with a horde. The hacker then went into ImperialHal’s stream by joining his Apex lobby and using the old account the player had to give up after he was hacked during the ALGS match. He asked to play ranked with ImperialHal, and the TSM captain said all he wanted was some “peace” following his team’s ALGS LAN defeat. This is not the first time Destroyer2009 has created bot armies to attack streamers and pro players in ranked matches. This new set of bot lobby hacks comes in the wake of Respawn and EA continuing to deal with vulnerabilities in Apex Legends. After the ALGS hack, the Destroyer2009 told TechCrunch that he does it “just for fun.” Respawn has tried to shore up its defenses against cyber attacks, even detailing an anti-cheat update in its Season 21 patch notes. Players and streamers will have to wait and see if the update will make a difference or if Apex Legends will continue to be plagued by hackers.

  • Nokokopuffs taps out after 52 hours attempting iiTzTimmy’s “stupid” Apex Legends challenge – Dexerto

Nokokopuffs taps out after 52 hours attempting iiTzTimmy’s “stupid” Apex Legends challenge Twitch: Nokokopuffs / Twitch: iiTzTimmy / Respawn EntertainmentTimmy ‘iiTzTimmy’ An completed Apex Legends’ most ambitious challenge to date, going from Bronze to Predator in one stream. Now, others are chasing in his footsteps, but none got closer than fellow Twitch star Christian ‘Nokokopuffs’ Feliciano. It was the challenge that shook the Apex Legends community. Everyone rallied behind Timmy on his Bronze to Predator challenge, with over 150,000 viewers at its peak. Now, others are following in the star’s footsteps, attempting the insane challenge. While many have tapped out already, none were closer than Nokokopuffs trying to emulate his friend’s success. Noko, who has nearly 250,000 followers on Twitch, embarked on his journey on August 18 to try and take Timmy’s throne — or at least join him at the top. “This is going to be a long f**king day, bro. I said Solo to Masters, but if I have time, I’ll do Pred. Only if I hit Masters in a reasonable time,” he said, bleary-eyed after waking up and turning on his stream. “Me and Timmy have different playstyles. He’s very aggressive. He’s very push-push-push. Even when I played with him, he even wanted to push in Pred.” Noko, who has hit the top Apex rank numerous times, blazed through the lower ranks early. However, like Timmy, he hit a wall around Diamond. It took him hours to climb through, and he was slowly losing his sanity. “F**k you. This is a really stupid challenge. Timmy, f**k you. You didn’t even tell me to do it, but f**k you for even… f**k. I’m in the delusional stage,” he said. “We call this ‘Timmy’s great challenge,’ right? Yeah, we’re going to rename that to ‘Timmy’s do-not-f**king-attempt-ever-I’m-an-idiot challenge.’ That’s what Timmy should have called it, and maybe I wouldn’t have done it. “Timmy made it look so fun. Good job Timmy, you made the hardest challenge [look so easy]. I’m going to give you the Noko breakdown, what 99% of gamers feel. You’re not always going to be smiley-go-lucky like Timmy because he’s a different f**king breed.” However, he did manage to crack Masters in reasonable time, and then set his sights on Predator. After climbing up towards 10500 RP though — within around 200 RP of the cut off at his peak — he started sliding back down. Staring down the barrel of a full reset 52 hours later at 10023 RP, Noko threw in the towel: “I’m going to regret it, I know I’m going to regret quitting, but I can’t help it.” While he wasn’t able to pull it off, his gargantuan effort earned the respect of thousands of fans. He peaked at over 10,000 viewers, gaining thousands of subscribers as he fell just short of equalling Timmy’s record in the same amount of time. “I don’t want this day to end, man. It’s just such a good stream. For me, just seeing the chat move the way that it’s moving right now has been a dream of mine since the day I started streaming,” he said. “To see the hype, to see all the different names, different people, emotes, faces. Like when my teammate typed a smile and then chat just spammed smiles. This is a big moment for me and I really love it.” However, Nokokopuffs isn’t going to give up now. He’s keen to give “the craziest challenge of [his] life” another crack in the future. “I don’t think I’m going to try it again any time soon. I’ll try it on the next World’s Edge, a little bit more motivated, a little bit earlier in the split. When it reaches 750 Pred, that’s when I’ll do it. “I need to check it off my box.”

  • Ninja and TimTheTatman discover Apex Legends glitch that makes players insanely hard to hit – Dexerto

Ninja and TimTheTatman discover Apex Legends glitch that makes players insanely hard to hit TimTheTatMan, Ninja – TwitchPopular Twitch streamers Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins and ‘TimTheTatMan’ discovered a glitch in Apex Legends that makes it difficult to deal damage to enemies, thanks to the map’s ziplines. Tim discovered the bug during a stream with Ninja and DrLupo in early March, where he noted that spamming the interact button while crossing the zip lines rendered him nigh impossible to shoot. “Did you know that if you spam it, as you’re hopping like this – I was doing it the whole way and they couldn’t hit me!” Tim laughed, demonstrating the glitch he went along. [Timestamp: 6:24 for mobile viewers] Ninja and DrLupo followed suit, with DrLupo noting how frustrating the movement was. “That is literally the most annoying way to travel,” he said of the glitch. This isn’t the first time Tim has discovered a game-breaking glitch, either; the streamer also came across a bug that allowed him to use his weapon while being knocked down, letting him sneak up on and fool enemy players in the midst of a hilariously chaotic battle. Apex Legends is rife with glitches, with a slew of players finding insane mechanics that give them crazy advantages in-game. In one instance, a player discovered a means to remove smoke effects from the game’s coding, allowing them to see through smoke grenades as if they weren’t even there in the first place. However, as Apex Legends isn’t even a month old yet, it comes as no surprise that kinks in the popular battle royale title are still being discovered – although TimTheTatMan appears to be rather adept in finding them.

  • Ninja shares opinion on whether Apex Legends can overtake Fortnite – Dexerto

Ninja shares opinion on whether Apex Legends can overtake Fortnite The newly released Apex Legends has taken the battle royale community by storm, and Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins has been just one of many prominent streamers who have been raving about the game. Ninja, of course, gained a lot of his notoriety from playing Fortnite Battle Royale, and so it’s only natural for fans and gamers to be curious as to whether he thinks Apex Legends could overtake it at some point. This was the question posed to Ninja during his latest livestream, and although he wouldn’t rule out the possibility, he made it clear that he believes such an occurrence would be very unlikely. “I mean anything any game has a chance to go over Fortnite, but it’s going to be nearly impossible,” he said. “But this game specifically? It’s anyone’s guess at this point.” “I think it’s going to be nearly impossible for anyone to do what Fortnite has done, and what they continue to do day in and day out and update their game.” If Apex Legends was to overtake Fortnite at some point, it’s definitely off to a perfect start, as the game managed to reach 10 million users in just a few days after release. While comparing the two games’ early numbers is not a fair assessment, especially considering how much EA have invested in promoting the game, but Apex Legends has certainly passed the eye test so far. Not only is it free-to-play, which is a model that’s worked extremely well for Fortnite, it was also announced, revealed, and fully released all on the same day, a strategy that got a lot of people curious very quickly. The one advantage that Respawn have in this case is that they can use a lot of what Epic Games have done with Fortnite to try and expand their own game’s success. Do you think Apex Legends can ever surpass Fortnite? Do you think any game can ever do what Fortnite has done? Tweet us @Dexerto to let us know your thoughts.

  • Ninja floors Apex Legends and Fortnite devs together in one hilarious roast – Dexerto

Ninja floors Apex Legends and Fortnite devs together in one hilarious roast Things haven’t been going the best lately for either Fortnite Battle Royale or Apex Legends, and popular streamer Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins has not wasted the chance to roast the developers of both games. The public perception of both Fortnite Battle Royale and Apex Legends has certainly dipped recently, the both games’ player-bases not entirely happy with direction that the developers have been taking. In light of this, Ninja, like many players who enjoy both games, has been left frustrated by the seemingly lack of progress that Epic Games and Respawn Entertainment have been making. How did Ninja roast Apex Legends and Fortnite? Loading into a match of Apex Legends, Ninja vented his frustrations by throwing a jab at the game’s publishers EA and developers Respawn Entertainment. While hilariously role-playing a hypothetical Apex development team meeting, he also couldn’t help but throw a jab at Epic Games and their recent failures with Fortnite. “Sitting in the theory crafting room, the think tank, everyone at EA and Apex Legends: ‘Guys, we’re still not going to be able to catch up to Fortnite! What do we do? Uh maybe we can add some great updates and content? Eh, that’s a little hard, what about you Ben? We can just wait for Epic to make a shitty update? BOOM! I love it!’” Damn even ninja on em :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing: pic.twitter.com/sxXdrY0M8l — WBG Zazzy :balloon: (@ZazzyFN) March 28, 2019 Why is Ninja unhappy with Apex Legends? Ninja’s complaints with Apex Legends pretty much fall in line with what the majority of the player-base is unhappy about – lack of good content. Now that the explosion of Apex’s early success has died down, the content that Respawn have since released hasn’t really lived up to the hype. A good example of this is the Season 1 Battle Pass, which released in early March after weeks of anticipation, leaks, and teasers. Most would agree that the Battle Pass has been a dud, full of content that not a lot players have found intriguing. Why is Ninja unhappy with Fortnite? Ninja’s main objection with the current state of Fortnite is pretty much what almost every other players has been complaining about over the past few days – the v8.20 update. Released on March 27, the v8.20 update removed what was arguable the most popular aspect of the game’s core default modes – a feature that gave players additional health/shield and materials after each elimination. This “shitty update,” as Ninja called it, will likely go down as one of the worst in the Fortnite history books, although it’s likely that Epic will revert it sooner rather than later. This wasn’t the first time that Ninja revealed his thoughts on the new Fortnite update; shortly after its release, he tweeted out that the patch had caused Squads to become “so dumb and boring.” Interestingly enough, he’s also played devil’s advocate on the controversial update, giving his insight on why Epic may have decided to implement such an unpopular change. At the end of the day, seeing something like this should be alarming for both Epic Games and Respawn, as nothing good can come out of someone as prominent as Ninja making fun of their development teams on stream.

  • Ninja reveals why he’s “really happy” he didn’t go pro in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Ninja reveals why he’s “really happy” he didn’t go pro in Apex Legends Just days after an accidental ban locked Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins out of Apex Legends, the Mixer superstar has admitted he’s “happy” about his choice to stick to professional Fortnite instead of 2019’s shiny new battle royale. The streaming giant, who had a healthy career in Halo esports before exploding in popularity, revealed there was a point after Respawn dropped their character-based game he considered making a permanent swap. Considering Fortnite has, for the most part, remained dominant in the streaming market, and Apex seems set to keep him from putting time into the game with strange bans, it sounds like the 28-year-old may have made the right call. Fortnite’s unstoppable growth compared to Apex’s linear movement isn’t the only reason Ninja says he’s happy to be staying with Epic’s game either, after the streaming star confirmed he would be focusing on the pro grind in 2020. For Blevins, who missed the Fortnite World Cup’s historic first run, playing on the world stage in the game is a massive personal goal — one he doesn’t think he could have achieved with Apex considering the game’s pro scene is “way too small.” “I was really good at Apex, if I’d stayed on par with it I would have been one of the best players in the game,” Ninja said as he struggled with his Apex ban. “I’m really happy I stayed with Fortnite though. The competitive scene [for Apex] is so small, it’s so tiny. There’s a decent amount of players who are in it, and I actually really enjoy watching the games, but it’s just very small.” For mobile viewers, the related segment in the video below begins at 2:05. If Apex’s professional scene was already relatively small too, the departure of one of it’s biggest names in Colby ‘dizzy’ Meadows, who said he would be looking to “expand his content” in a new streaming venture, won’t have helped either. That’s not to say Respawn or EA are letting the scene disappear, however. Far from it, considering the developers just recently announced a brand new $3 million Apex Legends Global Series set to begin in February of next year. The move could also remind players like Ninja, who are currently ignoring the Apex scene because of it’s relatively small size compared to other A-list esports like League of Legends and Counter-Strike, that the game is still in its infancy. After the title’s shock release in February, the game has only been around for just over ten months, and will mark its first birthday with the start of the sizeable $3m professional circuit. In comparison, Fortnite of course super-sized their esports scene with a $40 million World Cup, but that event came more than two years after the initial release of the battle royale, giving Respawn and EA plenty of time to play catchup. Read more: Leak suggests 3rd person mode coming to Apex – If that’s the case maybe Ninja might have to rethink whether he made the right call on his pro future — if he can’t qualify for the Fortnite World Cup two years in a row, maybe Apex’s ever-growing scene will welcome him back with open arms.

  • Ninja gets stuck inside Apex Legends map after using Octane’s Launch Pad – Dexerto

Ninja gets stuck inside Apex Legends map after using Octane’s Launch Pad Twitch streamer Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins became stuck inside of the map of Apex Legends after using the new jump pad. The first season of Apex Legends has now launched and a lot of the bigger streamers have come over to give the game a look. Despite this release of the new patch, Apex Legends still has its share of bugs and Ninja has discovered one of them. During a recent match, Ninja tried to use one of Octane’s, the newest Legend, jump pads and ended up getting stuck in the map. Read More: Apex Legends Season 1: Wild Frontier Update – Patch notes, Battle Pass, new Legend and more – Both of his teammates were down and he needed to recover their beacons but was not quite able to do it as he was completely stuck. The above clip, captured from streamer CouRageJD’s perspective, shows him spectating Ninja being unable to jump pad to his team’s rescue. “Hang on guys,” Ninja said. “I’m on my way, on my way, hang on.” Every time he took the Jump Pad, he was propelled further into the map. To its credit, Apex Legends hasn’t had a ton of game-breaking bugs like this too often so the game remains perfectly fine the majority of the time. Strangely enough, this isn’t the first time this exact same thing has happened to Ninja. With so many players now on Apex Legends, it’s important to make sure everything is running without a hitch and Respawn has done that for the most part. There is a problem with cheaters and hackers in the game but Respawn is making moves to combat that.

  • Ninja gets kidnapped in hilarious Apex Legends clip: “I just got destroyed” – Dexerto

Ninja gets kidnapped in hilarious Apex Legends clip: “I just got destroyed” Twitch.tv/NinjaAs an ability-based shooter, Apex Legends is unique in the battle royale world. Each legend features original ways to alter the flow of combat in the game, and unfortunately for Ninja, he experienced just how lethal the title’s movement-based abilities can be. During an Apex stream on Sept. 28, Ninja found himself trying to close out an intense game. His team had put themselves in a good position to take the W, but it all changed when an enemy Wraith made the play of a lifetime. It was the final circle of the match, and the situation was getting desperate. If they were going to win, they needed to take care of one solo who had managed to weasel into the circle before trying to fight the last full-team, who had taken the high ground and were pinning them down below. While the opposing Wraith player did give up the high ground, it wasn’t to bring the attack to the low ground but instead to bring the streamer back up top alongside them. When Ninja was pulled through Wraith’s portal, he was immediately met with a hail of bullets from the Loba and Pathfinder who were lying in wait. Ninja gets outplayed in Apex Legends Ninja is known for his over-the-top reactions, but it doesn’t seem like that energy has transferred over to Apex. Instead of raging about the situation, he praised the enemy Wraith player and admitted it was a sick idea. The Apex Legends subreddit has applauded his reaction to the encounter. One commenter said, “I expected him to explode and call it bulls**t. I guess people can change.” Another user added, “He passed the vibe check!” The timing of this play is extra funny since NRG’s Aceu recently called Wraith the worst legend in the game. That may be true, but examples like this are why the Voidwalker remains a staple in the roster of legends. While there might be a way to tune Wraith up and make her more competitively viable, players will have to make do with these sneaky little abduction plays until Respawn gets around to upgrading her kit.

  • Ninja explains why he’s stepping away from Apex Legends – Dexerto

Ninja explains why he’s stepping away from Apex Legends Apex Legends may be one of the most popular games in the world right now, but Twitch’s biggest star, Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins has revealed that he intends to move away from the battle royale title. Since its launch back on February 4, Apex Legends has seen incredible growth, reaching 50 million total players just a month after its release. Many fans of the game are excited for the game’sFortnite. Blevins has long been considered to be the face of Fortnite, and while the streamer has made a name for himself from his hilarious streams, he also aims to be a star in it’s competitive community too. When asked by a viewer if he would be switching to Apex on his Monday, March 18 stream, Ninja stated: “I am not done with Apex [Legends], man. I’m just going to be focusing on the Fortnite World Cup.” While the streamer has stated that his focus will now be on Fortnite, he will still occasionally play Apex Legends, as confirmed by his wife, Jess ‘Ghosty’ Blevins. Ninja will be hopping back into King’s Canyon on Tuesday, March 19 when Apex Legend’s Season 1 kicks off. New Season only means one thing…. @Ninja WILL indeed be playing Apex today and checking out the new season. https://t.co/zaBRsUvRoV — Jess Blevins (@JGhosty) March 19, 2019 Ninja has been practising on Fortnite with an aim to compete in the upcoming $30 million World Cup Finals, which take place in New York City on July 26 to 28. • Ninja explains how Apex Legends was “a missed opportunity” – Dexerto

Ninja explains how Apex Legends was “a missed opportunity” Ninja – Twitch / EATwitch star Tyler ‘Apex Legends was a missed opportunity for Respawn but it’s still an incredible game. Apex Legends got off to a blazing fast start when it first launched in February 2019 but it has cooled off significantly since its launch. The development has slowed down to the point where fans are openly wondering what’s next for the game and many are growing impatient. Games like Fortnite Battle Royale have led players to expect more frequent updates than developers may be used to. Ninja was asked by a viewer about Apex Legends and he shared his opinion on the game as a whole, praising some aspects but saying updates just didn’t come fast enough. “I don’t think anyone’s gonna leave Fortnite to play Apex,” he said. “Listen, I’m gonna say what I’ve always said about that game, it’s incredible. Gunplay, everything about it man, it was incredible. They missed a huge opportunity by not providing fresh and new exciting content. It got pretty stale, they know that. I don’t think there’s anyone there that would argue that they have done a great job at putting in new content.” What is coming with Season 2? Respawn promised to improve on the Season 1 Battle Pass with better content and possibly a map change, according to a blog post. New Legends are pretty much a certainty as well and there’s a lot out there on a Legend named Wattson, someone who currently isn’t in the game. However, shroud warns fans to not get their hopes up too much. For more concrete information, fans will have to wait until E3, which June 7 to June 9. Respawn promises a lot with Season 2 so let’s see if they can deliver.

  • Ninja explains his Apex Legends ban and why it was so confusing – Dexerto

Ninja explains his Apex Legends ban and why it was so confusing A day after finding out he had been banned on Apex Legends, Mixer star Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins tried to make sense of the odd situation. It’s not every day that a star content creator of Ninja’s caliber gets banned on a popular online game, but that’s exactly what happened to him on December 16. Logging on to play some Apex Legends with his Fortnite duo TSM Reverse2k, the streamer was met with a message notifying him that his account had been banned. Perplexed by the news, Ninja reached out to developers Respawn Entertainment via Twitter, who replied to him and seemingly got the situation sorted out. The next day, back on Fortnite, the former Halo pro discussed the possible circumstances surrounding the ban and potentially why it could have happened. What confused Ninja the most about the ban, other than knowing he hadn’t done anything banworthy, was the fact that he hadn’t actually been on the game in nearly six months. “That Apex ban is definitely not clickbait, I was banned last night,” he said. “I haven’t played that game in six months. We queued up into the game, and as we found the match, it kicked me out, twice. I was like ‘maybe it was just a one time thing,’ but then we queued up again, got into a match, and it was like ‘you’re banned.’ Which is very strange to me!” Read More: How to get free Crypto Twitch Prime skin – When Reverse2k mentioned that it was “probably on accident,” Ninja said there could not have been an alternate explanation for it. “It was 100 percent not on purpose, I have not done anything!” he said, then jokingly added: “Plus I haven’t hacked on that game in like a year!” (Segment begins at 0:16 mark of the video below) Apex Legends’ winter Holo-Day Bash event in full swing Now would be the worst time to get banned in Apex Legends, considering that the in-game winter event Holo-Day Bash is currently in full swing. The event has added the new Winter Express Limited Time Mode, ‘The Mirage Voyage’ town takover, a lot of exclusive cosmetic items, and much more. Holo-Day Bash wraps up on January 7, so make sure to take advantage of the Apex holiday fun while it lasts.

  • Ninja details how Respawn can make Apex Legends the best battle royale game – Dexerto

Ninja details how Respawn can make Apex Legends the best battle royale game Popular streamer Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins, who knows a thing or two about battle royales, has listed all of the things that Respawn Entertainment can do to try and make Apex Legends the best BR game. When posed with a question on one of his recent livestreams, the gaming superstar said that the potential for the long-term success of Apex Legends lays in the hands of the developers. “It’s all up to the developers at this point,” he said. “This game, it has the traction, it has the players, it’s only going to get bigger.” His proposal has two main facets to it – gameplay and content. He started off by making the point that the game needs to be updated regularly and on a consistent basis, which would ensure that the gameplay remains balanced and the integrity of it does not get compromised. As for content, he explained that the map needs to be changed “in good ways and healthy ways,” which will definitely make sure that the gaming experience remains fresh and fun. He also mentioned Legends, and how new playable characters need to be added down the line but they need to be well thought out and balanced so that they don’t become broken and overpowered or weak and underused. Another point he made was making sure that weapons are balanced, which is really a critical thing for all shooter-type games. Of course, this is no easy task and so the developers need to always be on the lookout for weapons becoming too strong or weak. Ninja rounded off his series of ideas by mentioning perhaps the most important thing – listening to the community. It seems pretty obvious that a developer can help generate success for its game by ensuring that those who are playing it are kept content and satisfied. It’s definitely not a coincidence that a lot of the ideas that Ninja proposed are similar to the approach that Epic Games took with Fortnite Battle Royale, which has gone on to reach unprecedented levels of success. Respawn have the invaluable luxury of having that model at their disposal, and it would seem that the smartest course of action would be to try and apply a similar strategy to Apex Legends. While Apex Legends still has a long ways to go before it can be truly challenge Fortnite, there are three key things that the developers can do to try and turn the new BR into a formidable rival. What are your thoughts about what Ninja had to say? Will his proposal work, or will nothing ever be enough to reach the heights of Fortnite? Let us know by tweeting us @Dexerto and sharing your opinions.

  • Ninja banned from Apex Legends and nobody knows why – Dexerto

Ninja banned from Apex Legends and nobody knows why Update: Ninja got into contact with Respawn and was told to check his direct messages. It sounds like the issue is getting resolved. Original story below. On December 15 when Ninja tried to load up a match of Apex Legends, he discovered he was actually banned from the game, and didn’t have any idea why or how it happened. Since Ninja’s move to Mixer, he has been branching out into playing more games outside of exclusively Fortnite. While he’s stuck with mostly shooters, he has branched off into games such as Dead by Daylight – something he played quite a bit before discovering Fortnite. He decided to give Apex Legends another try – a game he hasn’t played a whole lot of outside of its initial release – and when he and Reverse2k tried to get into a match, they discovered Ninja actually couldn’t play. On two separate attempts, Ninja was blocked from getting into a match before he finally gave up and switched to Dead by Daylight. Ninja seemed pretty confused about the whole ordeal, and he didn’t have any idea why he was banned from the game. Considering he doesn’t play Apex Legends all that much, it’s not a huge loss, but it did hurt his night considering he had to download a sizable update before he could even start playing. What makes the whole situation even stranger is the fact that Ninja himself presented the award for Best Multiplayer Game to Apex Legends during The Game Awards. It’s almost surely a mistake, but it’s tough to say for sure. Ninja hasn’t addressed the ban following his stream, and it’s unlikely that he will given how he was pretty confused about it already. The Apex Legends subreddit tried to figure out what happened themselves, but they too were pretty stumped about what happened. Ninja was one of the many streamers paid by EA to promote the game at launch, so it’d be pretty crazy to see him go from that to being permabanned. We’ll just have to wait and see if Ninja decides to give the game another shot in the future if he ever does get unbanned. After this sour taste in his mouth, it might be quite some time before he fires it up again. If you’re looking to hop into Apex Legends and you aren’t banned, now would be a great time to do so as the Mirage Holo-Day event is currently going on. This event wraps up in January, and offers a new game mode for players to explore so there’s a lot of fun to be had there.

  • Ninja thinks Apex Legends needs to follow Fortnite’s example to deal with hackers – Dexerto

Ninja thinks Apex Legends needs to follow Fortnite’s example to deal with hackers Twitch streamer Tyler ‘Ninja‘ Blevins has weighed in on the issues of hackers and cheats in newly released battle royale Apex Legends, but thinks Fortnite has set a good example for how to deal with them. Releasing as a surprise on February 4, it didn’t take long for Apex Legends to become a hit. With no pre-release promotion, developers Respawn Entertainment relied on ‘influencers’, like Ninja, to push the game when it launched. It worked, with 25 million unique players after the first week, and 50 million after the first month, but with such a massively popular, and free-to-play game, cheaters and hackers are almost inevitable. Apex Legends uses Valve’s source engine, which has been around long enough for cheat-makers to find plenty of ways to introduce hacks. Respawn say that they have already banned more than 350,000 accounts since the game’s release, but the problem persists, as they try to get to the root of the issue. Ninja has suggested that like Fortnite, it might take a month or so more before the problem can be treated more effectively. Also I see so many hacker tweets about Apex and that questionable wingman change. Really want to see @PlayApex get this right. But also remember it took fortnite 1-2 months to release their GOD TIER hacker update where we almost never saw them again. — Ninja :usa: (@Ninja) March 13, 2019 Currently, Apex Legends players are eagerly awaiting the release of Season 1, which is also expected to bring some major balancing updates. Presumably, there will also be some attempt at addressing hacking in the game, although Respawn are unlikely to go into any great detail about specific changes, as this would only make the hackers job of creating new cheats easier.

  • Night version of Kings Canyon coming to Apex Legends – but with a catch – Dexerto

Night version of Kings Canyon coming to Apex Legends – but with a catch Respawn EntertainmentPopular original Apex Legends map King’s Canyon is set to return in the game’s upcoming Limited Time Mode, but the Season 1 and 2 battleground won’t be coming back in the exact same way as before, Respawn has confirmed. Apex made the bold switch to a whole new arena titled ‘World’s Edge’ with the release of Season 3: Meltdown. While many players have enjoyed the breath of fresh air that came with the change, there are also plenty of fans who miss the old map. Now, those veteran fans will again be able to put their boots in King’s Canyon, and go traversing from the sandy hills of popular drop-zone Skull Town, to the expansive swamps below the Hydro Dam. This time, however, they may have to bring a torch. King’s Canyon is set to become the first map in Respawn’s eclectic battle royale to implement a night mode, as part of the upcoming Shadowfall Limited Time Mode. The LTM — which is tied into Apex’s Halloween celebrations starting in October — is Respawn’s twist on the classic ‘Infection’ game mode from long-standing multiplayer franchises like Call of Duty and Bungie’s Halo saga. Read more: How to fix Apex Legends code 100 error – 34 players will be dropped into the darkened King’s Canyon environments, with a handful already ‘infected.’ From there, any players eliminated by the hunters will return to the battlefield as undead versions of their characters, swelling the ranks of the ‘Shadow Squad.’ Unlike some Infection-branded game modes, many of which often use a player’s length of time avoiding the undead as a victory metric, Apex’s LTM also has an endpoint for surviving players to potentially achieve a win. When the game draws close to the end an evac ship will descend somewhere on the map, and players not yet in the Shadow Squad must hightail their way to the hope of safety. It’s a mechanic very similar to Respawn’s Titanfall franchise, though that involves pilots escaping from towering mechanic weapons rather than Halloween-themed ghouls. The concept of a night map in Apex is something that fans have been requesting for some time, with some creative players even mocking up in-depth designs to show off their dreams. After asking for so long, fans were excited to see that Respawn had listened to the community and turned off the lights on the game’s ever-popular debut arena. “I’ve been waiting for this since I realized during Valentine’s that they were going to participate in holiday events. BRING ON THE SPOOKY!” said one excited fan, while another suggested cosmetics might work against you on the returning map: “Make sure to unequip your rare/legendary skins so you don’t stick out like a glowstick in the dark!” As well as the spooky new version of King’s Canyon, the LTM will also bring a host of new cosmetics, extra challenges, and a series of double-experience promo weekends through the month of seasonal celebration. The Fight or Fright Collection Event will be kicking off on October 15 and will last until November 15, going straight through the Halloween season.

  • Night version of Apex Legends map looks awesome – but players are unsure – Dexerto

Night version of Apex Legends map looks awesome – but players are unsure Respawn EntertainmentMore night mode renders of Kings Canyon have been made up by members of the Apex Legends community, but players are still unsure how a dark version of the map would work in game. Apex Legends has great gun mechanics and a faster paced style of play compared to other battle royale games like Fortnite, PUBG, and Blackout. However, it lacks map diversity, with players running over Kings Canyon over and over again. While Respawn has looked to rectify this issue with town takeovers – a similar concept to Fortnite’s forever evolving map locations – fans have looked towards a more large-scale solution by adding a brand new map. Night versions of Kings Canyon have popped up to be a popular choice within the community, with many players sharing their own renders of various parts of the map after dark. Read more: Crypto lore could hint at new Apex map – On September 24, Reddit user ‘JaykayX71’ shared his own screenshot of Airbase at night, and it looks pretty awesome. The lights on the runaway stand out, with the landscape of the canyon looking serene under the starry sky. However, while the map design looks good, players are concerned about how practical it would be to play on. Apex Legends has struggled with visibility issues over the course of his uptime, with muzzle flash and harsh shadows being two of the biggest complaints. These issues might be amplified under a dark sky. Read more: When is Apex Legends Season 3? – Trying to see your enemies in the dark will be pretty tough too. ‘Vikovi’ said that “I can barely see my enemies with lights on bro” as a joking remark, but without any external aids, it would be tough to see into the distance. But, some players have come up with innovative ways to work around the problem, including adding new items to the game. Read more: Apex night mode looks incredible – User ‘Ck_Aero’ said that “adding night vision scopes” would be a great addition to help players see down long ranges in the dark, while an added night vision goggles idea, as pitched by ‘GrandmasterSluggy,’ could help players without using their sights. “You could have them work like Modern Warfare where they are kind of limited in range and you can’t ADS proper with most weapons,” they said. Even the addition of silencers on weapons would make for an interesting vibe. It would allow players to lurk in the dark, according to ‘thebentap’, and make the game a lot more ominous. “Imagine a longbow shot wizzing by your ear,” he said, “or a R9 that did slightly less damage when equipped.” The aesthetics of a night map, combined with a new selection of items, might add an interesting twist to how people play on Kings Canyon. New spots to drop and fight might become more popular, depending on how people want to play around different visibility conditions, and some items like Digital Threats will become increasingly more valuable. There’s endless possibilities as to what Respawn could do with a night mode map, or a new map entirely. If the gameplay mechanics are ironed out to what the community wants, a new map will add a breath of life to Apex Legends, and could be a good addition for future seasons.

  • Nifty Apex Legends trick lets Lifeline and Horizon combine for mile-high heals – Dexerto

Nifty Apex Legends trick lets Lifeline and Horizon combine for mile-high heals Respawn/EAApex Legends players have got a new trick involving Horizon and Lifeline that allows them to soar above enemies, and get heals off at the exact same time. Ever since Apex Legends first launched, fans have been experimenting with the different abilities, finding new and interesting ways to use them in order to get a leg up on the opposition. Some of the tricks have been pretty fun, if not all that useful in top-level games, but there have been a couple – like the flying Rampart minigun – that can really cause havoc in matches. Now, players have been experimenting with Horizon and Lifeline to pull off a timing trick that allows them to fly in the sky and get heals off, but could also be a bit of a platform to rain down on enemies below. The trick was highlighted by YouTubers Chadward and RossBobSquirrel, noting that it can be used to either launch yourself in the air or your teammate. All you have to do is have a Lifeline and Horizon in your squad, with the pair of them having their tacticals ready. Firstly, the Lifeline throws out her health drone, and either character stands on top of it. Once you’re able to see the inside of the drone, Horizon has to toss out her gravity lift. As the YouTubers show, if it is timed correctly, you’ll fly about 200 meters into the air. Plus, if enemies start shooting you and you need health, Lifeline’s drone will provide it at the same time. Now, is this trick all that useful in-game? Well, that’s debatable. The timing needed to make it work means that you can hardly do it in a close-quarters fight, but if you’re spread out and want to baffle enemies, it could work. So, when you next drop into Apex, keep your eyes to the sky, you never know what might be flying around.

  • Nifty Apex Legends trick lets Crypto turn Prowlers into attack dogs – Dexerto

Nifty Apex Legends trick lets Crypto turn Prowlers into attack dogs Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have discovered a nifty trick that allows Crypto to use his drone to turn Prowlers into attack dogs. Season 11 of Apex Legends brought tons of new content to the BR, from a new character and a new map, to AI-controlled animals. Prowlers, four-legged wolf-like creatures, have been causing quite the ruckus on Storm Point, as they spring into action and attack when you’re too close. While players have been begging Respawn to remove them, a new Crypto trick may convince fans to rethink that, as they actually can be used to kill enemies. Apex Legends Crypto trick turns Prowlers into killing machines Crypto is one of the many Apex Legends characters in-game, and his tactical ability is a surveillance drone that can fly around the map and get information. A Reddit post by ‘u/pagereader’ shows off a new trick using his drone that allows it to get the aggro from Prowlers and have them chase it wherever you decide to fly. As seen from the picture, you can get Crypto’s drone close to the Prowlers, but not too close, as they can destroy it. Once they are in range, the dogs will start to follow the drone around the map. This allows you to control where they go and you can lead them all the way toward enemies, creating your own attack dogs in Apex Legends. This can be extremely useful as you can lead the Prowlers into a fight as a third party. However, you’ll want to be strategic with this, because if the dogs get the kill, you will not get rewarded with points. It will be best to have teammates follow up and clean up the mess that the Prowlers leave behind. Next time you drop in give this a try and see if it’s as strong as advertised.

  • Nifty Apex Legends Horizon Gravity Lift trick lets players scale walls instantly – Dexerto

Nifty Apex Legends Horizon Gravity Lift trick lets players scale walls instantly Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends movement trick with Horizon lets her instantly scale walls in one fluid movement after using her Gravity Lift. Horizon is already one of the most popular characters in the battle royale for her incredible mobility, thanks in large part to her Spacewalk passive ability that increases mid-air movement control. Couple that with her tactical ability and Horizon’s move set starts to open up for players to exploit in unique ways. That’s what user ‘dhzS_’ found during a skirmish when they were able to quickly vault over an obstacle in no time at all. Not only did it give the player a way to reposition, but it also happened so fast that it hardly gave the last remaining team enough time to react. Considering how valuable different movement techniques are in Apex, this just adds to Horizon’s already impressive capabilities. In the clip, the player can be seen taking the Gravity Lift up to lay down their Black Hole ultimate ability. Since Horizon’s Spacewalk passive also mitigates the impact of falling from tall heights, dhzS_ had enough momentum to get over a nearby wall. This is simplistic in its application but can be a major thorn in the sides of enemy Apex Legends teams caught off-guard by the speed of the play. Though there’s discrepancy if the trick is akin to a normal wall climb, the time between getting over the wall and pulling out their weapon to attack was the most impressive part of the play. Horizon is an exceptional Legend who works really well with the new Storm Point map Gravity Cannons and off-meta Apex characters too. It’s these kinds of tricks that’s making Horizon one of the most popular Apex Legends picks in Season 11 which could continue throughout the Escape campaign.

  • NICKMERCS weighs in on aim assist debate in Apex Legends: Controller vs KBM – Dexerto

NICKMERCS weighs in on aim assist debate in Apex Legends: Controller vs KBM Respawn/YouTube: More NICKMERCSTop Twitch streamer NICKMERCS has weighed in on the age-old aim assist debate once again, this time with talks of a potential change coming to controller players in Apex Legends. After nerfing the popular tap strafing movement mechanic in Apex, developers Respawn said that they would “continue to evaluate” controller aim assist in the game. Obviously, this has renewed the aim assist debate and got many controller players worried about the prospect of the feature being nerfed — with keyboard & mouse players insisting that an aim assist nerf is necessary. Nick has always placed himself firmly on the side of controllers and with his newfound obsession with Apex, he had to make his feelings known on the subject. Respawn will “”continue to evaluate”” aim assist in Apex Legends, and devs will discuss the current balance of controller vs mouse & keyboard this week. “”Players should not feel forced to use a specific input type.”” pic.twitter.com/NQDBdI31Ao — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) September 1, 2021 After Respawn said this, Nick posted a video to his More NICKMERCS YouTube channel discussing the idea of possible nerfs incoming. “In this video, we’ve got to come together,” he explained to his viewers. “Take the keyboard and mouse guys, put them over there. Controller gang, I’m talking to you. “Apex Legends put out a tweet, they’re discussing the way aim assist works in Apex Legends. I don’t know what changes they’re making, I don’t know if they want to nerf or buff aim assist… I don’t give any cr*p about these keyboard and mouse players. Don’t care in the littlest bit.” He goes on to say that “it’s funny all these keyboard and mouse guys be talking about aim assist being broken, right? But they’re on keyboard and mouse… “ Nick has always made his stance clear on aim assist, from the early Fortnite days right through to Warzone and Apex Legends, and he’s definitely not giving it up any time soon. If changes are made to aim assist, you can guarantee there’ll be a whole lot of community discussion surrounding it — and Nick will certainly make his feelings known.

  • NICKMERCS weighs in on adding Warzone’s Gulag to Apex Legends – Dexerto

NICKMERCS weighs in on adding Warzone’s Gulag to Apex Legends NICKMERCS/Activision/RespawnWith Warzone cheating getting out of hand, Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff has made the switch to Apex Legends and believes the game might benefit from bringing on their own version of the Gulag. Stretching all the way back to the glory days of H1Z1 and PUBG, battle royale games have constantly been accused of taking ideas and features from one another, and fans have made their own suggestions as to what might work. This typically happens when a large group of players makes the switch to another game, just like what has happened recently with players going from Warzone to Apex Legends. A number of top content creators, including NICKMERCS, have also made the switch, and are enjoying the fresh game. Though, they’d like to bring over some features from Call of Duty’s battle royale. In his August 5 video, the FaZe Clan star pointed out that some Call of Duty players believe that Apex could benefit from a Gulag-like system, rather than just picking up respawn banners. Some believe that the pacing of Apex would mean something like the Gulag would be perfect, and it’s an idea that Nick highlighted too. “What if there was a Gulag type of deal in Apex Legends? I’m just talking the s**t, here,” he said. The Twitch star noted that “a lot” of CoD players are still trying to wrap their head around Apex and that’s where the crossover idea stems from. “Personally, I don’t know if that could even work. I don’t know how they would do something like that but it is an interesting idea,” he added. While the influx of new players might believe its something that Apex needs, long-time players, will argue otherwise and say the current banner and respawn system works well enough. If your team is on top of things, you’re not out of the game for long, anyway. Of course, it couldn’t be an out-and-out copy of the Gulag either, and Respawn would have to devise something with their own unique twist. Though, we’ll see what happens.

  • NICKMERCS wants one big Apex Legends ranked change, but it could lead to “boosting” – Dexerto

NICKMERCS wants one big Apex Legends ranked change, but it could lead to “boosting” Twitch: NICKMERCS / Respawn EntertainmentNick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff is calling for one major Apex Legends ranked change — inspired by the title’s pro tour — that he believes could solve the battle royale’s competitive grind, but admits the bold idea could lead to new “boosting” issues. “RP” has been a hot topic in Apex Legends for a while now. The battle royale’s competitive currency has been part of the title since 2019 and, for the most part, has been relatively well-received. The way the points work means you don’t have to score a hard-earned victory to climb; instead, kills, assists, and placements help that goal too. There is one issue that arises from the “RP” — Ranked Points, that is — is that survival hands Apex Legends big boosts, multiplying any kill or assist points a player may have raked in across the competitive lobby. That means ranked players will “rat” (hide until the end), often kill-stealing from teammates in an effort to climb faster, and NICKMERCS has had enough. The Twitch star’s call for new Apex Legends ranked changes came after fellow streaming star Jack ‘CouRageJD’ Dunlop raised the topic on Twitter. The 100 Thieves co-owner is another streamer fed up with the way the “KP” system works and believes there should be a change. According to Dunlop and Kolcheff, there seems to be an easy solution: make points a team-based bonus. NICKMERCS threw out the suggestion after seeing a similar system being used in the battle royale’s pro ALGS scene, where they share points around the three-man squad. The Twitch star claimed Apex queues should have the same, and brought up an example of why. “I had a team fight the other day, right? I did 400 damage, went down, my teammates cleaned it up. W. 100 damage for each. “Then, they both got three KP, I got zero. L. That’s 400 for zero, 100 for three, 100 for three.” “That’s f**ked,” he added, “and it shouldn’t be a thing.” There is one big issue with NICKMERCS’ idea, however. That big problem, as many may have guessed, is boosting. Allowing a full Apex Legends squad to share their points means a high-level player could log on to a lower-ranked account, dominate a lobby with kills and assists, and hand those points to the two other players they were boosting, whether the RP was actually earned or not. NICKMERCS concedes his idea isn’t perfect, and warns if Respawn did decide to implement it, they’d have to think long and hard about how they would manage that “boosting” issue so that it wasn’t used and abused. “My main concern for this in Apex Legends ranked would be that it could lead to players boosting,” the Twitch star admitted. “I just don’t really know how ya fix it.” Since making the move from Warzone to Apex Legends, NICKMERCS has been quite outspoken about the game’s balance and ranked experience, and hasn’t been afraid to drop suggestions on how he thinks the battle royale can improve. This isn’t the first time he’s gone after ranked either. Earlier this month, the Twitch streamer took aim at Apex Legends ranked protection. He claimed it “artificially” boosts each player’s ranks, and often keeps “poor” competitors stuck in tiers they don’t actually deserve. “I think this game has one of the best ranked modes ever created,” he said, but had more to add. “Aside from one thing: I don’t believe in the ranked protection, at all. You should be able to lose and drop out of ranks. It promotes careless gameplay, because, no matter what, you have this net at the bottom.” He also weighed in on the aim assist debate in late August, saying “It’s funny. All these keyboard and mouse guys say aim assist is broken. Why do you care?”

  • NICKMERCS wants Apex Legends Arenas mode to be copied by other games – Dexerto

NICKMERCS wants Apex Legends Arenas mode to be copied by other games FaZe Clan/RespawnStreaming star Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff believes more games should have something similar to Apex Legends’ “incredible” Arenas mode as he continues to sink his teeth into Respawn’s battle royale. With Warzone having a pretty massive hacking issue, NIKCMERCS has jumped away from the Call of Duty battle royale and made Apex Legends his new go-to game. The FaZe Clan star has sunk his teeth pretty deep into Respawn’s battle too, hitting Predator rank in Ranked play and not really dipping out for other games as some other streamers have done. While he’s spoken pretty glowingly about Apex, he has had a few ideas to fix things. Though, he also believes that other game developers should be eyeing up something similar to the new Arenas mode. The 3v3 mode has proven pretty popular with players as it’s fast-paced and offers new ways to play the battle royale that hasn’t been done before, while also being easy enough to understand. It also has its own pre-game buy system – just like you’d find in Counter-Strike – so you don’t have to rely on finding loot. Though, there are things to find during the match. How he’d have work in other games isn’t clear, but Nick is all for it popping up elsewhere. “Apex arena mode is incredible,” he said. “I think all games should take a page from Apex because this is like a fast, sped-up Apex game… buy system like Counter-Strike. Very, very cool thing that they did here, I love it.” As we’ve seen time and time again, battle royale developers love to take inspiration from each other for new modes and features, so maybe it is possible that Nick will get his wish. We’d have to wait and see as to how other games would implement a similar mode, but there is plenty of scope to do so.

  • NICKMERCS urges Apex Legends to tackle cheaters as hackers force him to quit stream – Dexerto

NICKMERCS urges Apex Legends to tackle cheaters as hackers force him to quit stream Respawn Entertainment, NICKMERCSApex Legends Season 16 has a “very big problem” according to popular streamer NICKMERCS who recently ended a stream early because he was too frustrated with the state of the game. Respawn Entertainment’s free-to-play Hero shooter is still one of the most popular games on the market with tons of players enjoying it every week. Apex Legends has come under fire though in recent times with a new wave of cheaters ruining the first-person shooter title. Players have demanded that the devs incorporate one of Call of Duty’s anti-cheat measures because, despite a recent fun April Fool’s update, certain issues are affecting Apex Legends. Changes to Ranked have left players unhappy with the game’s competitive mode, and NICKMERCS thinks the ongoing issue of hackers and cheaters is only compounding the frustration. “Now is not the time for an influx of cheaters” says NICKMERCS After being a Call of Duty: Warzone advocate for the longest time, NICKMERCS made the switch to Apex Legends back in 2021 and hasn’t looked back. He’s logged some time into Warzone 2 since, but his main focus has been Apex Legends. However, during a recent stream, Nick eventually became fed up with his lobbies being ruined and signed off early for the night. “I’m not doing it chat, I’m not doing it again tonight. They’re [hackers] not going to freeze the lobby, aimbot me, the whole f*cking night,” Nick said. He also then went on an impassioned rant: “We have a very big problem in Apex, and I really do hope that the devs take this sh*t seriously, this is not a f*cking joke right now. Call of Duty is down bad, nobody wants to play that sh*t right now, you’ve got a lot of people coming over to Apex to try out the new stuff. Now is not the time for an influx of cheater and DDoSers. It’s not the time.” Nick explained how he was “getting off early” because of the issues and how he refused to be “cheated on.” The Twitch star has made his feelings perfectly clear and has said in the past that hackers should be sent to jail. With Apex Legends Season 17 upcoming and another wave of players expected to hop into the game to sample the new content, it’ll be interesting to see if Respawn steps up its countermeasures against these kinds of threats.

  • NICKMERCS threatens to quit Apex Legends if another major crash happens – Dexerto

NICKMERCS threatens to quit Apex Legends if another major crash happens Respawn / NICKMERCSStreaming star NICKMERCS has shared his thoughts on the recent major server issues in Apex Legends, claiming he’ll quit the popular battle royale if it happens again. Apex Legends has become the new go-to battle royale for many of the biggest streamers, from CouRage to TimTheTatman, and it’s not hard to see why, as Apex has been dominating the CoD battle royale Warzone when it comes to viewing figures. Another streamer who’s seen success after making the jump to Apex is NICKMERCS. But while his viewers are clearly enjoying the Apex content, some have been wondering how long the bubble can last – and when he’ll return to Warzone. In a new video, the streamer decided to shed some light on his plans for Apex Legends content going forwards, explaining that he’ll quit the game if there’s a repeat of the recent server issues that caused people to lose ranks. “If they ever put out an update where my game breaks and I can’t play Ranked for three days ever again, I’m out of here,” he said. Topic starts at 00:30 While he was clearly frustrated by the server issues, NICKMERCS went on to say he’s “whole-heartedly addicted” to the game, and that his current plan is to keep going with Apex Legends content until he hits Predator in ranked play. “All I wanna do right now is play it – at least until I hit Predator, and then I wanna play with some of my Apex homies, and then we’ll see what happens after that,” he said. “I realize Call of Duty’s dropping some new stuff in the near future, and we’ve also got a new Halo. There’s a lot going on.” Apex’s recent server issues began with the launch of patch 10.1, which caused many players to experience constant timeouts while playing Ranked mode and lose RP as a ‘punishment’ for leaving matches early. The devs at Respawn have promised that a “full return to normal” will happen with a patch on September 28, and have extended ranked split to allow players more time to reach their goal.

  • NICKMERCS thinks Caustic nerf basically “deletes” him from Apex Legends – Dexerto

NICKMERCS thinks Caustic nerf basically “deletes” him from Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Season 12 is nerfing Caustic’s gas traps – an area NICKMERCS believes will delete him from the game. Unlike the Apex Legends Season 12 Crypto buffs, Caustic has been hit with a significant nerf that will impact his gas traps. Now, whenever his gas traps are triggered, they can be destroyed by enemy players. This means Caustic mains will need to be a little more careful when placing their barrels on the map. Quite how impactful this upcoming nerf will be remains to be seen, but it is a change that could drastically shake up his play rate. In fact, popular streamer Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff believes that the new Caustic nerf will make him extremely unpopular in the game’s meta. NICKMERCS on Apex Legends Caustic nerf Caustic can be incredibly strong when paired with Legends that compliment his noxious gas traps. Legends like Bangalore, Bloodhound, and Wattson can certainly add even more lethality to his toxic tactical. Unlike more reactive Legends in the game, Caustic’s overall use is incredibly situational. He often excels when locking down an area, which enables him to force enemy players into unwinnable choke points. It’s here where the toxic defender can capitalize on the damage, slows, and visibility impairment from his traps. This obviously makes him particularly dangerous in areas with minimal space and defensive strong points. Timestamp of 3:29 However, the Season 12 update is changing the way gas traps function, making them completely destructible, even when they have been triggered. “That’s not a nerf, that’s a delete,” laughed Nick. “They just deleted the character, man. Nobody can use the stinky man now more. That’s it, man, it’s over. That’s Ctrl+Alt, 100%. Poor Caustic.” Whether this Season 12 nerf will drastically change Caustic’s win and play rate remains to be seen, but for now, Nick is adamant that this Legend’s time is up.

  • NICKMERCS thinks Apex Legends Ranked is now “miserable” for solo players – Dexerto

NICKMERCS thinks Apex Legends Ranked is now “miserable” for solo players NICKMERCS/RespawnTwitch star Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff believes Apex Legends Ranked is currently “miserable” for solo players, but also questioned why players are going it alone after the changes. Just like many other multiplayer games, Ranked has been the go-to mode of players trying to prove they are the best of the best that Apex Legends has to offer. Though there have been complaints in seasons past that inactive players were hoarding the top spots. Respawn set about changing that in Season 13 as they dropped the Ranked Reloaded update. However, the changes have also come in for criticism, with some players believing it’s now too difficult. Though, there are others that believe the changes are pretty solid too. Plenty of the complaints have come from players who solo queue and link up with random teammates, which NICKMERCS is a bit baffled by, even if he can sympathize with those players just a little bit. During his June 2 stream, the FaZe Clan star was continuing his climb up the competitive ladder when his chat wanted his opinion on the changes to Ranked. Some, again, noted that they run as solo players and find it extremely difficult. “You have to face people who are great… better, that’s what Ranked mode is all about,” Nick started. “You want me to feel bad for you? The only thing I feel bad about is that if you’re playing solo and you don’t have a team, I think it’s really tough right now and they do need to make changes.” The streaming star admitted he was unsure what those changes could be, but urged Respawn to fine-tune things. “It’s miserable, it’s so hard to play,” he added. “But, putting that to the side, why are playing solo? I have questions man. The f**k are you doing playing solo man? Why are you playing solo? It’s an honest question.” Nick is not alone in questioning why some players run as a solo in Ranked, but at the end of the day, it’s the only option that some players have. It remains to be seen as to whether or not Respawn will make changes to accommodate and address the complaints, but after such a big overhaul, they may not come quickly.

  • NICKMERCS tells ImperialHal to stop crying amid Apex Legends feud – Dexerto

NICKMERCS tells ImperialHal to stop crying amid Apex Legends feud Respawn Entertainment/TSM/NICKMERCSNICKMERCS and Apex Legends pro-ImperialHal have differing opinions on the game’s future, and tensions escalated in a Twitter argument. Apex Legends Season 15 begins on November 1, introducing a new map, legend, and zip line feature, but not all players view these changes the same. ImperialHal expressed worries about the game’s future after Season 15, saying, “Apex is f*cking dying right now. If they don’t have a good season, next season is gonna tank.” NICKMERCS disagreed, stating, “Hal was crying on Twitter, talking about Apex being doomed and sh*t; I just don’t agree with any of it.” He added, “I think that Apex has consistently shown, as long as I’ve been here, that they’re constantly trying to go in a good direction.” Both have continued to defend their positions, and the argument has only escalated. Is Apex Legends dying? Jacke Lucky shared an exchange between ImperialHal and NICKMERCS. It all started when Apex Legends content creator Nokokopuffs claimed, “A lot of us realized that Apex could add new items, new guns, and at the core, we would still not be entirely happy. The game’s been out for almost 4 years; it’s just burnout.” ImperialHal disagreed and said, “everyone’s burnout is different, and the coincidence of this many having it at the same time is just very unlikely.” Nick argued, “it’s not unlikely at all when mfs like you cry on Twitter 24/7.” Hal responded, “of course, I’m going to cry because I want to voice my opinion and see actual change instead of just sitting back and collecting a check like you!” The check-collecting jab most likely refers to NICKMERCS praising Apex developers for their work on Season 15’s new map, Broken Moon. Nick is optimistic about the battle royale and claims Apex has a brighter future than Warzone. We won’t know which side stands on the right side of history until Season 15 officially launches in a few days, but these two have made their opinions very well known.

  • NICKMERCS slams “corny” Apex Legends community while discussing quitting ALGS – Dexerto

NICKMERCS slams “corny” Apex Legends community while discussing quitting ALGS NICKMERCS/ ALGSNick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff addressed his exit from competitive Apex Legends on stream and called out the entire Apex Legends community on his way out. NICKMERCS is no longer competing in Apex Legends esports after a year of play in the North American ALGS Pro League. The FaZe Clan streamer has decided to jump back into Call of Duty and said he has too many other obligations in his life at the moment to handle a professional esports player’s schedule. The controversial streamer addressed his exit on stream after his former teammates published videos and social media posts about the team’s disbandment on February 19. The two players said NICKMERCS had fallen out of love of the game and wanted to move on to something else. He also took some parting shots at the Apex Legends community and addressed those who said his team would never make it far in its esports scene. NICKMERCS slams Apex community on the way out NICKMERCS talked to his audience about the news of his team disbanding and apologized for not announcing his exit when his Tripods teammates did. He then detailed why he fell out of love with Apex Legends. “The Apex community was alright at first. As time continued it got more and more corny, just way corny, I’m sure a lot of you guys can agree with that. That whole mother f***ing community is a different breed,” NICKMERCS said. He then talked about the haters he accumulated through his time competing in Apex, like those who said he wouldn’t hit Predator or qualify for the league. “We didn’t do great, but we still made it into the league. Then when we made it into the league they said ‘Yo Tripods aren’t making it to LAN.’ They were right about that one,” he said. The streamer explained that when the team didn’t make the final lobby to qualify for NA Pro League for this season, he realized that the Apex community “despises” him and that the time commitment it took to not qualify was not worth the effort. NICKMERCS also said he isn’t leaving Apex Legends forever, but that he doesn’t see himself returning to the title anytime soon.

  • NICKMERCS shows how to make Prowler “broken” in Apex Legends in Season 14 – Dexerto

NICKMERCS shows how to make Prowler “broken” in Apex Legends in Season 14 NICKMERCS/RespawnTwitch star Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff believes the Prowler can be a bit “broken” in Apex Legends Season 14, provided you make one small adjustment. The start of Apex Legends Season 14: Hunted has brought plenty of changes to the Apex Games, including the arrival of Vantage, the Laser Sight attachments, as well as a pretty big overhaul to Kings Canyon. A couple of changes have also been made to the existing legends, weapons, and survival items, and in typical new season fashion, the meta has been shaken up in a pretty big way. One of the weapons that didn’t undergo some changes, though, was the Prowler. The heavy-duty SMG has always been a popular pick with players, however, NICKMERCS believes it’s a little strong in the new update. NICKMERCS praises Prowler in Apex Legends Season 14 The FaZe Clan star highlighted the SMG in his August 28 video as he ran it alongside the G7 Scout, to pretty devastating effect, as he pointed to a key change helping the Prowler in a big way. “The Prowler f**king hits naughty with the laser, you should try it, with the purple laser,” Nick said after his squad swept to victory in domination fashion. And, he wasn’t even hip firing, which makes the benefit of the laser sights even stronger. “I was talking sh*t, but that Prowler smacks. When you hit a whole burst with that Prowler, I don’t know how you lose, you just can’t lose,” he added. Timestamp of 9:25 Nick even had to give some props to his viewers for recommending he use the SMG in that way, even though he’d ignored their calls beforehand. Of course, if anything is truly “broken” in Apex, it falls on Respawn to get changes rolled out and have it addressed. We’ll have to wait and see if they see the need to act on the Prowler, but don’t count on anything coming just yet.

  • NICKMERCS says Apex Legends Catalyst will “change everything” in Season 15 – Dexerto

NICKMERCS says Apex Legends Catalyst will “change everything” in Season 15 Respawn Entertainment / Scuf Gaming: NICKMERCSAfter watching the Apex Legends Season 15 launch trailer NICKMERCS was very impressed by the early look at Catalyst’s ability set. Apex Legends Season 15 is nearly here and players are extremely curious about the new Legend, Catalyst. For those who don’t know, Catalyst is a new defensive Legend with the ability to build walls and reinforce doors with a substance known as ferrofluid. Early impressions surrounding Catalyst’s ability set seem positive, with Twitch streamer NICKMERCS even saying that the new Legend may just “change everything” for Apex Legends. NICKMERCS weighs in on Apex Legends’ Catalyst In a recent YouTube video, NICKMERCS took time to watch the Apex Legends Season 15 launch trailer, which showcased a cinematic of the new defensive Legend in action. After watching the trailer and seeing Catalyst’s abilities in action, the streamer was left optimistic about how she would change Apex Legends. “That character’s gonna be crazy… A wall you can scan through. It’s crazy how much this stuff will change the strategy, ya know? It keeps it fresh and I definitely like that… That’s gonna change everything though.” In particular, NICKMERCS was focused on how Catalyst’s scan-blocking walls will alter the scan-heavy meta of Apex Legends. Topic starts at 0:45 for those on mobile. “If it really does block Seer stuff then Seer’s not gonna be played anymore. I guess they’ll play her?” the content creator wondered. Seer has been a dominant force in Season 14, with some players even calling on Respawn to nerf the Recon Legend in Season 15. However, NICKMERCS was quick to acknowledge that players “never know” how the meta will actually shake up until Legends are implemented and the season is in full swing. “You never know. Bloodhound could pop back in it. You never know until it actually changes.”

  • NICKMERCS roasts ImperialHal after wiping his squad in Apex: “You guys suck!” – Dexerto

NICKMERCS roasts ImperialHal after wiping his squad in Apex: “You guys suck!” Respawn Entertainment/TSM/NICKMERCSTwitch streamer Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff wiped out Philip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen in a Ranked match with a wide swing that caught the TSM pro completely off-guard. Earlier in 2022, NICKMERCS decided to pivot from primarily playing Warzone to Apex Legends, and although at first some of his fans were not happy with the change, he’s now thriving in the new community. Not only has Nick climbed to the higher tiers in Ranked, but he’s also competed in the ALGS against some of the best players in the world. As expected, this has led him to develop some friendly rivalries with other competitors, one of which being ImperialHal. Well, after taking him down in a recent Ranked match with an impressive aggressive swing, Nick decided to throw a jab at the popular pro player. ImperialHal left frustrated after being wiped out by NICKMERCS During a recent Ranked match, ImperialHal came face to face with NICKMERCS’ squad and the two teams began to fight. Fighting on Storm Point, NICKMERCS immediately landed two impressive shots with the 30-30 Repeater before retreating behind a rock. Realizing his Charge Rifle shots weren’t hitting the mark, ImperialHal and his squad pushed forward toward Nick’s position. After funneling them in a gap, Nick then aggressively swung with his Volt SMG, melting Hal’s health bar and taking him down. After being downed, Hal was left frustrated questioning why Nick is “swinging” on him in that position. Once Hal’s squad had been wiped, Nick decided to throw a jokey jab at the TSM pro, asking is that really “Hal again? You guys suck man.” Of course, Nick isn’t being serious and is just joking with Hal but it certainly makes for some entertaining stream content. Whenever these two players go against each other there’s always flame and there’s guaranteed to be more when they meet again. Next time, we’ll have to see if Hal can get revenge or if he’ll be taken down once again by one of Nick’s aggressive plays.

  • NICKMERCS reveals key Apex Legends tip to improve as fast as possible – Dexerto

NICKMERCS reveals key Apex Legends tip to improve as fast as possible Respawn Entertainment / Twitch: NICKMERCSApex Legends streamer and ALGS competitor Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff has revealed his key tip to improve as fast as possible at Respawn’s battle royale, which he claims allowed him to rise to the top so rapidly. NICKMERCS’ ascendancy from Apex Legends newcomer to Global Series competitor has been nothing short of remarkable, with the former Fortnite and Gears of War pro lighting up the competitive scene of Respawn’s battle royale. He has previously touched on why he felt the need to return to competing from a personal point of view but, in an April 23 live stream, he offered his view on how he – and other players – can rapidly improve at Apex Legends. Asked by a viewer what the best way to improve at Respawn’s BR is, Nick explained how he altered his gameplay to ensure he got better as fast as possible. In short, it comes down to playing with the highest tempo possible, challenging opponents at every opportunity. While it won’t get players the most amount of wins – that’ll certainly come from a conservative playstyle and looting up – it will result in the fastest improvements in overall gameplay. “I don’t think I really got good at the game until I started pushing sh*t,” he explained. “So to answer your question honestly bro, I think the best way to get better at the game is to play aggressive. Very aggressive. I think that’s the best way. Because you’re playing the game and you’re really trying to push your pace. You’re trying to push yourself.” He continued: “When you get comfortable and you play in your comfort zone and you’re not pushing your pace… that is the way to play to win, but you’re not really getting any better. I didn’t see that until I kinda went through it in my own way… So that’s why when you see us make questionable pushes and weird plays, we’re just tryna push people.” It certainly seems to have worked for the Twitch giant, even if it’s not guaranteed wins at first.

  • NICKMERCS reveals his new favorite weapon in Apex Legends for fastest TTK – Dexerto

NICKMERCS reveals his new favorite weapon in Apex Legends for fastest TTK Respawn/EATwitch star Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff has made his pick for the most “broken” gun in Apex Legends currently, as he believes it has a faster TTK than the Volt and R99. With Apex Legends Season 12: Defiance now a few weeks old, players have had plenty of time to get to grips with the new legend Mad Maggie, as well as all the other changes. Some of the most notable changes have been made to the game’s loot pool, specifically the huge number of weapons available. Many favorites like the VOLT and Flatline have been removed from ground loot, being put into care packages and replicators respectively. However, if you’re in need of a weapon that can really rip through enemies and may have arguably the fastest TTK in the battle, then NICKMERCS has got you covered with his new weapon of choice. The FaZe Clan star was running some games on Olympus alongside Daltoosh and Deeds, with the trio racking up a 23-kill win during a high-level ranked match. In the game, Nick ran a Wingman and CAR, dishing out over 1700 damage and chipping in with seven kills. As the game came to an end, he had to give some props to the CAR for how it ripped through the opposition. “CAR > care package VOLT? That’s kinda crazy. The CAR is pretty nuts though,” he said in his February 20 YouTube video. “The fire rate, when you really connect on a motherf**ker bro, I don’t know what to tell you – I see that number get up to 200 so fast on the CAR. It just goes up so quick. I’m not sure what the math is, but the TTK feels like the fastest in the f**king game.” Timestamp of 16:30 Naturally, some fans will argue otherwise and point out that a weapon like the Kraber has the best TTK, given that it can delete enemies in one shot. Though, the CAR is a deadly choice, so pick it up next time you come across it and see what you think.

NICKMERCS reveals his ideal Apex Legends settings for controller players FaZe Clan/Respawn/Sony/MicrosoftNick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff officially abandoned Warzone in favor of top competitor Apex Legends, and he’s been grinding to an unreal level. From the early days of Fortnite to now running the Apex Legends category on Twitch, Nick has always been one of the top controller players that others look to for inspiration. The Apex grind has been very real, reaching the Diamond ranks within a week of starting and looking capable of holding his own against some very high-level players. • NICKMERCS reveals his favorite weapons for Apex Legends Season 12 – Dexerto

NICKMERCS reveals his favorite weapons for Apex Legends Season 12 NICKMERCS/RespawnFaZe Clan star Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff has revealed his pick for his two favorite weapons in Apex Legends Season 12, and they’re a deadly pair. As the Apex Legends loot pool has continued to grow and grow over the last few seasons, players have had to constantly tinker with their favorite weapon loadouts. The all-powerful VOLT and Flatline were put into supply drops and replicators, respectively, meaning their usage has dropped off slightly in the new season as a resuly, while the R301 and R-99 continue to dominate in games. Everyone has their favorite and ideal loadout for the new season, and NICKMERCS – who has pretty much become a fully-fledged Apex content creator – is no different. During his March 18 YouTube upload, the FaZe Clan star aired a few grievances with the Prowler and 30-30 repeater. He struggled to hit shots with them, labeling the heavy-duty pair as “trash.” Though, he was a bit kinder about his two favorite weapons – the Triple Take and C.A.R SMG. “If you guys are playing Apex ranked, give me your two favorite guns to use. The guns you’re going to use to pop off and clutch up for you and your team,” Nick asked of his viewers. “Me personally, it’s the Triple Take and the C.A.R. SMG. If I have those two guns man, easy peasy, squeezy squeezy.” Timestamp of 0:25 The Triple Take being a popular choice isn’t a shock, seeing as it’s been a huge damage dealer for quite a few seasons now. But the C.A.R is a more contentious choice. Nick hasn’t been shy about praising the SMG in the past, even saying it feels like it has the best TTK in the battle royale as a whole. It remains to be seen if him showing some love towards it will make it a more popular pick, but if you run into him in Ranked, don’t be shocked if he’s absolutely beaming with it.

  • NICKMERCS reveals biggest change he’d make to Apex Legends – Dexerto

NICKMERCS reveals biggest change he’d make to Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentStreaming titan Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff recently made waves for dropping Warzone and heading to Apex Legends. After getting his hands dirty in battle, the FaZe star wants a simple change to be made, and he’s got the backing of fans. The Warzone hacking epidemic continues to plague the Call of Duty community. As cheating players rise and glitches break the game, this has got many players considering giving up on Activision’s Battle Royale for good. Until real, tangible change comes to the game, many of the biggest Warzone streamers have decided to jump into Respawn Entertainment’s competitive rival. Focusing on trio-orientated skirmishes, Apex Legends has impressed streamers and players alike for being a breath of fresh air. Among those streamers impressed by Respawn’s battle royale iteration is FaZe clan creator NICKMERCS. Despite his meteoric rise to fame with Warzone, the streamer has decided enough is enough. Having spent some time demolishing foes in Apex, he’s already got some key feedback on one element of the game that fans have requested for quite some time. NICKMERCS biggest Apex Legends change In his August 7 YouTube upload, the streaming star suggested that the pre-game character selection screen could do with some work. Currently, if you’re not in front of your screen during this stage, the game will assign you a legend, typically the one you last used. However, if they’re not available, you’ll be given someone at random. This has bugged Apex players for a while, and now it’s bugging Nick. To combat this, the FaZe star suggested that the game would allow players to pre-select three Legends of their choice. “If I walk away for a second and then I come back and I get this guy that I’ve played or I don’t like, I’m like NAH!” he said. In the event that a player would be away from the character selection screen, the game would pick from one of those options, given they’re available of course. It’s a quality of life fix that players have suggested for quite some time, so maybe Respawn might soon come around and implement it. We’ll have to wait and see.

  • NICKMERCS reveals Apex Legends devs are finally working on game’s audio issues – Dexerto

NICKMERCS reveals Apex Legends devs are finally working on game’s audio issues Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment, developers of Apex Legends, have informed NICKMERCS that the current issues with the game’s audio are their top priority amid frustrations from pros. Apex Legends pros and various other players have been lately voicing their issues with the game, ranging from bullets leaving no tracers, to missing gunfire, and footstep audio, to even demanding a Warzone 2 anti-cheat features following an increase in reports of hacking. Respawn has been actively tackling any issues that have popped up in the current season, and, just last week, announced that they are investigating an issue crashing players’ games. Replies to the announcement have been full of people asking the devs to tackle other issues, but that naturally takes time. However, fans might not be waiting long as the developers messaged some pro players privately. Respawn is looking into audio issues of Apex Legends NICKMERCS, along with other pros, apparently received a DM from one of Respawn Entertainment’s devs about the issues with audio, as the Apex creators are looking into addressing it. The FaZe Clan member read the whole message out loud for his fans and the larger Apex community interested in the progress of fixing current issues. “Regarding the audio drops, this is definitely a unique and difficult issue to investigate, the Apex team has been looking into it for some time now as a top priority,” read out Nick during his stream. “We are trying to work with pros to get their audio telemetry for analysis.” The message also revealed that the devs are looking into audio issues at a game-wide scale, not only those affecting gunplay. The messages conclude that the messages and videos showcasing issues have been helpful for the dev team. It’s a definite step in the right direction from the game’s developers and we hope to see more improvements hitting the live servers soon to weed out issues one by one.

  • NICKMERCS responds to ImperialHal ALGS “d-tier” verdict – Dexerto

NICKMERCS responds to ImperialHal ALGS “d-tier” verdict Respawn Entertainment/TSM/NICKMERCSIn the latest chapter of an ongoing light but competitive feud between NICKMERCS and ImperialHal, Nick responded to a less-than-favorable ALGS tier list. In March, NICKMERCS claimed that “it’s my purpose” to play competitive Apex Legends. His hard work came to fruition in July, accepting an invitation to compete in the ALGS Year 3 Stage 1 split. NICKMERC’s team, Tripods, currently sit in 16th place in the ALGS Pro League standings. Nick received some flack for getting an invitation into the ALGS, but Apex Legends superstar ImperialHal backed him, admitting he has more “passion” than many pros who don’t do anything but play Apex. It hasn’t all been amicable between the two competitors, however. The pair got into a heated dispute over the future of Apex Legends and the direction of the game. Now the two are back for another round, this time because of an ALGS tier list. NICKMERCS responds to ImperialHal’s ALGS tier list ImperialHal’s TSM is currently first in the ALGS Pro League standings, while the Tripods are a middle-of-the-pack team. In a clip from a recent stream, NICKMERCS claimed, “This guy (ImperialHal) has been talking made sh**. They put a video about us saying we are a D-tier team. A-F, and we were a D.” NICKMERCS added fuel to the fire by releasing his own tier list, placing TSM in the lowest possible tier. He also went on to take an inadvertent shot at Cloud 9 in the stream clip amid the team’s struggles. “They said Cloud 9 is better than us, and Cloud 9 just went bankrupt. All of their players split, and we have twice the amount of points as Cloud 9 in the pro league right now.” It’s clear that the feud between these two Apex Legends pros is far from resolved.

  • NICKMERCS proves he can dominate Apex Legends after wiping TSM squad – Dexerto

NICKMERCS proves he can dominate Apex Legends after wiping TSM squad NICKMERCS/RespawnNick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff’s Apex Legends skills were once again on show as his trio took out a trio of TSM players and decided to talk a little trash in the aftermath. Since swapping Call of Duty: Warzone for Apex Legends, FaZe Clan’s NICKMERCS has ascended to the upper echelons of Respawn’s battle royale. The streaming star has managed to climb all the way to Predator rank without any help, and he’s even considered making the next step in trying his hand at professional play. While some viewers and Apex fans may think he’s still a bit far away from achieving ALGS glory, he’s been going toe-to-toe with some of the best players around, and getting some decent results. During his December 22 stream, the FaZe Clan creator dove back into the Apex Games with his trio – Cory and ItsDeeds – and found themselves going head-to-head with TSM’s Nokopuffs, ImperialHal, and Albralelie on a few occasions. Nick’s boys got the upper hand over the highly-talented trio on two occasions, which was cause for celebration for him – even though he watched the action unfold from the ground at one point. He jumped into Noko’s chat, immediately asking “What happened?” before taunting the trio. “Are these the Apex pros, chat?” he jokingly asked his viewers as he took a victory lap on the death boxes. The friendly banter didn’t end there, however. One fan took to Twitter to point out that Nick and his team were getting the upper hand in “every game” against former and current pros. When Nick highlighted that Noko was a regular victim of his, the TSM streamer quickly hit back. “Suck my ass,” he replied, with a middle finger emoji attached. The FaZe star has cemented himself as a part of the Apex community, and there’s no telling how far he and his teammates will go.

  • NICKMERCS praises Apex Legends devs for finally addressing matchmaking and SBMM problems – Dexerto

NICKMERCS praises Apex Legends devs for finally addressing matchmaking and SBMM problems Respawn / Twitch: NICKMERCSApex Legends streamer and ALGS competitor Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff has praised Respawn Entertainment for recently announced changes to the BR’s skill-based matchmaking mechanics. Skill-based matchmaking has long been a major topic in video games and in Apex Legends specifically. Complaints have long revolved around players’ inability to enjoy matches casually and, in Season 15 specifically, issues over inaccurate matchmaking have taken center stage. However, many players welcomed recent confirmation from Respawn that the game’s SBMM mechanics will be changing considerably in the near future. NICKMERCS praises Respawn for SBMM changes in Apex Legends In a November 22 Twitch stream, ALGS competitor NICKMERCS joined the chorus of praise for Respawn developers, describing it as “cool”. “I did see a little bit of this I think,” he said. “I read the dev’s paragraph and it looked like he needed to go to college… I dunno, cool though. A lot of people don’t like the current Apex [matchmaking] thing they have going on so if they’re gonna make some changes, good man.” In short, the streamer and former Gears of War pro is pleased to see developers listening to community feedback and making adjustments as they deem necessary. Nick is known to praise developers for positive changes they make, recently applauding Respawn for Apex’s new Broken Moon environment. Although the developers did not give specific dates for the implementation of the SBMM changes, they did say that players can expect them in-game during December or early in 2023. Nick is clearly among those who believe they’ll improve the quality of the average match and placate some fan criticism.

  • NICKMERCS outlines major Apex Legends Ranked changes needed to save the mode – Dexerto

NICKMERCS outlines major Apex Legends Ranked changes needed to save the mode Respawn Entertainment / Twitch: NICKMERCSApex Legends competitive player and Twitch streamer NICKMERCS has outlined a number of changes he wants to see in the BR’s Ranked mode, claiming Respawn have “so many options” to save it. NICKMERCS’ transition from Twitch streamer to Apex Legends Global Series competitor took many in the gaming community by surprise. In spite of his past as a Fortnite and Gears of War pro, few thought he would adapt to high-level Apex Legends as well as he had. However, Nick has been critical of Apex Legends’ Ranked mode, claiming that it needs to do more to engage its varied player-base. He believes that, currently, there’s little reason for players to get truly invested in the mode and, in a September 2 Twitch stream, he delved into the “options” Respawn have to overhaul Ranked. NICKMERCS wants major Apex Legends Ranked changes Outlining the varied player-base of Apex Legends Ranked, Nick explained that Respawn need to do more to satisfy the community. He said that the top players – like sweetdreams and ImperialHal – don’t care about Ranked in its current form. As a result, he wants to see better rewards, more tournaments and in-game leaderboards. “You have a variety of players in these Ranked lobbies,” he said. “So in order to have people play correctly you have to incentivise it enough for them to give a f**k… The only way you’re gonna change that is by incentivising it.” He went on to advocate for character skins and weapon skins as rewards, as well as “Blings” like in Fortnite. On top of that, NICKMERCS specifically called on Respawn to offer more support through the organization of tournaments and cash prizes. He said: “There’s so many things you can do. You could have a tournament at the end of every split with the top players in Ranked… A lot of pros would definitely care and grind it out. A little heirloom would be cool. And on top of that, there’s just so many options. Skins, heirlooms, cash, tournaments.” The streamer rounded off his suggestions by asking why Ranked leaderboards are not available in-game and players have to go to a third-party site to access detailed rankings. Respawn have not responded to any of Nick’s suggestions but plenty of viewers echoed the desire to see them implemented, with many spamming “Save Apex Ranked”. Here’s hoping we see the mode develop and improve as we move towards Season 15.

  • NICKMERCS claims new Apex Legends map will finally solve game’s biggest issue – Dexerto

NICKMERCS claims new Apex Legends map will finally solve game’s biggest issue YouTube: NICKMERCS / Respawn EntertainmentNick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff has high hopes for new Apex Legends map Storm Point, which will be added to the game in Season 11, and believes it will go “a long way” to fixing what he sees as the battle royale’s biggest issue. This week, Apex Legends is heading to “Storm Point,” a new tropical battleground, as the Respawn battle royale shifts into Season 11 with its November 2 update. Storm Point marks the first time since October 28, 2020 — over a year ago now — that Apex Legends players have been given a new map to play on. The battle royale launched with Kings Canyon in 2019, World’s Edge was added in Season 3, and Olympus was dropped in Season 7’s update. Needless to say, the map hype is hitting a fever pitch. Caught up in the hype is Twitch superstar NICKMERCS, who was a leading figure in the Warzone-to-Apex Legends movement earlier this year. He’s “super excited” to get his hands on the new battleground this week. And, on top of all the normal hype, Kolcheff has high hopes for one other thing; he sees Storm Point as the perfect solution to one major Apex Legends issue. For the most part, NICKMERCS has had nothing but praise for Apex since defecting to Respawn’s flagship title in September. He’s returned to Warzone in stints but remains quite loyal to the character-based game. That’s not to say he sees it as the perfect game, however. The Twitch star has threatened to quit the battle royale entirely if servers aren’t fixed, repetitively complained about the ranked system, and (perhaps his biggest sticking point) can’t stand the “third-party” culture that has developed in Apex Legends in the two years since the game’s shock release. All that could be over, though, he claims; according to the Twitch star, the new map’s swollen size — 20% bigger than any other Apex battleground, Respawn confirms — means it “has the chance to be the best of all four maps.” “It’s going to be 20% bigger than any we’ve had yet, which I think is really good for [finally stopping] third parties,” he said. “Yeah, [that makes] this new map fire!” Related segment begins at 14:42 in the video below. The Storm Point map and its bloated 20% size increase is far from the only thing NICKMERCS has been getting “really hype” about too. Apex Legends Season 11 is adding another character, Ash, and he can’t wait. In fact, he sees her overtaking Wraith next season. “This is the new character?” the Twitch star said while watching the Ash gameplay trailer for the first time on October 29. “Woah… you can, like, aim up. This is her ult? Holy sh*t, holy sh*t, that’s crazy. She [looks like a] Wraith port. I think [after Ash’s release] that Wraith is going to be no more.” “I love it, I love it!” he continued. “Yeah, of course [she’ll get nerfed immediately]. It’s the way of it. Remember when Seer came out, he was broken as f**k.”

  • NICKMERCS makes surprise pick for Apex Legends “underrated” Season 14 weapon – Dexerto

NICKMERCS makes surprise pick for Apex Legends “underrated” Season 14 weapon FaZe Clan/RespawnTwitch star Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff has made a pick for an “underrated” weapon in Apex Legends Season 14, but some fans don’t agree. As Respawn Entertainment have constantly tweaked weapons and updated the meta, plenty of players have made their choice for guns that they feel go under the radar. In past seasons, some players have been convinced that pistols are stronger than their standing in the meta, while others have taken burst rifles over the fully automatic options. Both sides can be right, it just depends on what suits them from game to game. When it comes to Season 14, a few players have named the L-Star, Alternator, and Hemlok as the most underrated guns currently. However, NICKMERCS has got a more surprising choice than most for that category. NICKMERCS’ “underrated” weapon for Apex Legends Season 14 The FaZe Clan star, who has returned to the Apex Games after a brief hiatus to focus on Warzone, picked the Sentinel sniper as his “underrated” weapon for the new season – but only in certain situations. “You know what I think is kind of an OP gun off spawn, but only off spawn? Sentinel,” Nick said. “Like iron sights Sentinel, that’s kind of like… 140 to the head, I think, or 120 maybe. Kind of cracked.” Nick’s team quickly agreed with his take, and so did some fans in the comments section. However, not everyone is too sure about it. Timestamp of 1:00 “It’s my main weapon, it just feels good to use for me,” said one fan. “Not underrated, it’s a skill issue,” added another viewer. “lmao Sentinel off spawn… you are trolling hard,” commented another. Unlike some other battle royales, it is hard to see if the data lines up with Nick’s suggestion, but the competition between snipers is fierce, and everyone has their favorite. So, to think that one is underrated is a fair thing.

  • NICKMERCS & ImperialHal clash over Apex Legends scrims: “Sick of this sh*t” – Dexerto

NICKMERCS & ImperialHal clash over Apex Legends scrims: “Sick of this sh*t” Respawn Entertainment/TSM/NICKMERCSApex Legends pro ImperialHal accused NICMERCS of playing unnaturally during an ALGS scrims match, and Nick clapped back with authority. ImperialHal and NICKMERCS are both extremely passionate about what they do, leading to heated arguments in the past. Hal has been critical of Nick’s commitment to professional Apex ever since he transitioned from being a full-time streamer. The TSM mainstay called out Nick for playing Warzone 2 over Apex and even labeled him the “weak link” of his ALGS team. Both competitors ultimately respect each other, but that doesn’t prevent the occasional fireworks show in the heat of the moment. In the latest chapter of an ongoing saga, the firey duo sounded off over a controversial play during an ALGS scrims match. ImperialHal and NICKMERCS feud over ALGS scrims match ALGS teams practice by hosting private matches with one another. Only a few game days remain in ALGS Split 2, so every team wants to be at its best to secure a playoff berth. During a private match, NICKMERCS’ team engaged in a gunfight with TSM, and both teams lost after a battle between multiple teams. Nick’s stream chat alerted him that Hal was talking about him negatively. “Hal does good in scrims, the scrims are great, Hal gets killed, the scrims are bad”, Nick claimed. “We are practicing the way we want to play. What the fu** is he doing.” Nick joined a discord call with Hal and asked “What are you bitc*ing about.” Hal responded: “You see that the zone is north, so why would you go south when there are four or five teams?” The MFAM leader didn’t back down, arguing: “In our defense, we didn’t think you would be there. You can talk all the sh*t you want.” He added: “If anyone is trolling, it’s you because, guess what, you were doing some sh*t that you would never do on game day.” In the end, both pros laughed everything off and called it a night.

  • NICKMERCS hits Predator in Apex Legends without “carried” accusations – Dexerto

NICKMERCS hits Predator in Apex Legends without “carried” accusations Respawn/Twitch: NICKMERCSNick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff has finally hit Apex Predator in Apex Legends ranked and, unlike some of his other peers who came from games like Warzone or Fortnite, made sure there’s no way he can be accused of being carried. Earlier in the summer of 2021, Apex Legends saw a huge resurgence, with a number of top streamers switching over from games such as Warzone. Apex has officially become the most popular battle royale title on Twitch, ahead of main competitors Fortnite and Warzone, and Nick is one of the players that has been leading the charge ever since he made the switch. In Season 10, Nick got tantalizingly close to reaching the top rank in the game with 9778 RP out of 10,000. Now, though, less than two weeks into Season 11, he’s finally become an Apex Predator. Any Apex player knows the grind to Pred is a tough one. You not only need to be an incredibly talented player, but most of the time you’ll also have to rely on a solid couple of teammates to rise together. While other streamers, such as Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop, were accused of being “carried” to reach Apex Predator — including from Nick himself — NICKMERCS has made sure there’s no question that he earned it. Playing with fellow streamers Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney and Tom ‘72hrs’ Mulligan, the trio has been grinding together and finally hit Predator, with Nick making a point to say that he “earned” the rank in an emphatic Twitter post. APEX PREDATOR. EARNED. WITH THE LADS. AHHHHHH pic.twitter.com/wWqhstIIVU — FaZe Nickmercs (@NICKMERCS) November 11, 2021 Nick and co. were definitely holding their own after making Predator too, winning their gunfights, placing well and looking comfortable among the best players in the world. Nick has batted away accusations of being carried in the past, but this time, he’s made no question of the fact he’s earned his plaudits.

  • NICKMERCS hits back at ImperialHal’s “weak link” Apex Legends criticism – Dexerto

NICKMERCS hits back at ImperialHal’s “weak link” Apex Legends criticism Twitch: NICKMERCSTwitch streamer and ALGS competitor Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff has responded after Apex Legends pro Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen suggested he is the “weak link” on his team. NICKMERCS’ transition from full-time Twitch streamer to Apex Legends Global Series competitor has been undeniably impressive. He is currently representing Tripods as part of a team with Deeds and Gent. Despite the praise he has received from the community, long-term Apex pro ImperialHal has been less effusive with his comments. He previously referred to Nick and his teammates as ‘D-Tier’ players. More recently, he claimed that Nick is the specific “weak link” on Tripods as a result of lacking the “mechanical skill” that the current pro meta requires. The comments, unsurprisingly, didn’t wash with the former Gears of War pro, who responded in a December 21 stream. NICKMERCS refutes Hal’s “weak link” Tripods comments Asked by his chat whether he’d seen Hal’s latest jibes, Nick confirmed he has but that he plans to continue to prove his doubters in the Apex Legends esports space wrong. “I saw a little bit of that yeah,” he said. “I will say in my defense, Hal’s been talking sh*t about my progress in Apex since the jump. He said that we wouldn’t ever make Pred and then he said that we wouldn’t do sh*t in Pred and then he said we wouldn’t make pro league. Then he said we wouldn’t do sh*t in pro league. And every time he says that we just keep doing it.” He also pointed to his own performance in the ALGS and against Hal, mentioning a time he eliminated the TSM pro and one of his teammates. “Now he’s saying that I’m deadweight and all this sh*t,” he continued, “but how can you be deadweight and have multiple clutches and big-time plays in multiple big-time tourneys? ALGS tournaments too. Like I two-tapped him and his boy in a three v three fight in an ALGS match. Me. I opened it and closed it.” As the two Apex heavyweights continue to lock horns, we can hope to see them compete in-game in the near future.

  • NICKMERCS hits back at critics claiming Warzone 2 is making him worse at Apex Legends – Dexerto

NICKMERCS hits back at critics claiming Warzone 2 is making him worse at Apex Legends NICKMERCS/Respawn/ActivisionStreaming star Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff hit back at some critics claiming that playing Warzone 2 had affected his skill in Apex Legends after a round of games went poorly. Since getting involved in the competitive side of Apex Legends, NICKMERCS has pretty much dedicated his Twitch channel to Respawn’s battle royale. When Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 were released, though, plenty of fans quizzed him on when he’d jump over. The FaZe Clan star noted that he wasn’t too interested at the start and wanted to focus on Apex. However, he’s been giving Warzone 2 a go as of late. He’s still been logging hours upon hours in Apex Legends, but some critics have questioned whether or not switching back and forth is hampering his skills on the more competitive front. NICKMERCS responds to fans saying Warzone 2 affects his Apex Legends games It was something that came up during his January 19 stream, as Nick switched from grinding Warzone 2 to playing some scrim games of Apex. Things didn’t exactly go to plan for his Apex trio as they struggled to win gunfights and made a few slip-ups when it came to positioning. For that, Nick took some flak. “I feel like, individually, I’m not playing a bad set. I know the outcome is really shitty and we’re not doing well as a team, but if the quick and easy blame is ‘Oh Nick has been playing CoD’ then I don’t know if that holds up,” he said. “That contest we had with ESA was won by me. I put the first guy down, hit the other guy for 80 with a shotgun, I did my job and some.” Timestamp of 0:50 Nick admitted that he’d made some slip-ups during the session but his trio was struggling to make their own luck and were challenging teams in situations where they didn’t need to. As we’ve seen in the past, when he really needs to lock in for Apex, Nick will put his full focus on it. So, some fans might just have to give him a little bit of space.

  • NICKMERCS hits back at Apex players claiming he gets “carried” in Ranked – Dexerto

NICKMERCS hits back at Apex players claiming he gets “carried” in Ranked NICKMERCSPopular content creator Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff has jokingly called out CouRage on his Apex Legends ranking. Ever since his departure from Warzone, NICKMERCS has been busy grinding out ranked games of Apex Legends. While this adjustment has taken a number of games to get used to, Nick and his team have managed to adapt to their new surroundings incredibly well. In fact, the Call of Duty streamer recently achieved the ranking of Apex Master. Of course, this has led to many viewers doubting his skill and stating that he had been carried by his team. In order to fight these claims, Nick jokingly took aim at fellow teammate Jack “CouRage” Dunlop. CouRage is another CoD streamer who has quickly risen up the Apex Legends ranks, but Nick has been quick to call out CouRage’s Predator ranking. NICKMERCS calls out CouRage “Truth be told, I think CouRage is a phenomenal gamer,” said Nick. “I thought he was one of the best early Fortnite pros, I’ve said all that I mean all that. But he did link up with two Apex Predators, former Apex pros to get to Predator.” Since his arrival to the world of Apex Legends, CouRage has played with a number of pro players. While players like NiceWigg and Tannerslays have undoubtedly helped CouRage learn the ropes, Nick believes it’s this advantage that has enabled the streamer to climb so quickly. Timestamp of 0:19 “I love Jack, I really do,” said Nick. “But I don’t care if I’m on stream in front of 50k or if it’s him and me sipping a f**king tequila, I’m going to tell him that he got carried. We can argue about it all day.” Nick then joked that he could get G2 Dezignful to help get him to Apex Predator. “I’ll be Predator in 10 minutes…Ok, maybe like an hour.” Despite calling CouRage out, Nick had nothing but glowing things to say about his friend. “CouRage is great, he’s better than me at Apex, he’s a great player he’s phenomenal,” said Nick. Quite how long it will take for Nick to reach Predator rank remains to be seen, but the popular streamer remains hopeful that he’ll get there.

  • NICKMERCS highlights the main reason Apex Legends is ahead of Warzone – Dexerto

NICKMERCS highlights the main reason Apex Legends is ahead of Warzone NICKMERCSNick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff was one of the most popular Warzone content creators, but his departure from the game continues to raise a lot of questions. Well, the streamer recently revealed why he believes Apex Legends is leagues ahead of CoD’s own BR. Despite occasionally returning to Warzone, NICKMERCS has been incredibly vocal over his general distaste for the game. In fact, the streamer’s love for CoD’s popular BR took a dive when the Vanguard integration was released. Since then, Nick has been busy grinding out competitive Apex Legends matches. Those familiar with NICKMERCS’ content will know just how much he loves Respawn’s BR, especially when it comes to ranked matches. While his departure from Warzone left many of his fans saddened, the content creator has now explained the main reason why Apex Legends is way ahead of Call of Duty. NICKMERCS on why Apex Legends is ahead of Warzone “I think what hooked me on Apex, in the beginning, was there’s a ranked mode,” explained Nick. “You can see yourself progress and get better. A lot of other games like Fortnite and Warzone don’t have it. In this game, there’s a real ranked mode. Yeah, it does have its flaws for sure, but you can still progress, get better, and grind.” Read More: 10 best Pathfinder skins in Apex Legends – Warzone players have wanted a ranked mode since the game’s release, but Activision has still yet to add this highly-requested feature into the game. This is in direct contrast to Apex Legends, where players can prove their skills in the game’s ranked divisions and compete directly against players of the same skill level. Timestamp of 9:42 “In Apex Legends, if you feel like your good enough, you take a shot at competitive. There’s this whole Challenger League that feeds into the Pro League. It’s really cool, you just keep climbing…The bar keeps moving higher and higher, which is fun for a guy like me,” said Nick. “You all know how competitive I am, I like to find things to grind.” The streamer also noted just how complex Apex Legends is, noting how the game has layers to it and that there are plenty of advanced mechanics to master. It’s certainly clear NICKMERCS is a huge fan of Apex and it’s great to see him so passionate about the game. Whether Nick will return to Warzone in the future remains to be seen, but for now, it seems that the content creator is happy to continue his competitive climb.

  • NICKMERCS highlights “strongest” weapon to dominate Apex Legends Season 13 – Dexerto

NICKMERCS highlights “strongest” weapon to dominate Apex Legends Season 13 FaZe Clan/RespawnTwitch star Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff has made his pick for the “strongest” weapon in Apex Legends currently, and it’s a long-standing fan favorite. When you’re dropping into battle in Apex Legends, you can obviously use your favorite character’s abilities to help people you and your team towards a win. Though, that’s not the only way to secure victory. On top of having the right composition of abilities, you also need to have the best loot – which means getting a set of weapons you’re comfortable with, as well as all the bells and whistles of armor and medical supplies. In the case of NICKMERCS, as he’s risen through the ranks of the Apex Games, he’s changed his mind a few times on what his favorite weapon of choice is. And, in Season 13: Saviors, he’s changed his mind once again. The FaZe Clan star, who has reached a pretty decent level inside Apex Legends, has previously named the C.A.R SMG, the R301, and Volt as his favorite weapon in the battle royale. Though, as he’s battled throughout Season 13, he’s started to show a bit of love to the Flatline, seeing as it’s now returned to being floor loot. Nick highlighted the heavy weapon in his June 1 video, claiming it’s the “strongest” weapon in the game currently. He was, of course, able to style and profile with the Flatline – opting to run it with the 3x sight rather than the bruiser setup that others choose. Nick and his trio earned yet another win, with the Flatline playing a key role. As noted, pick’s for ‘best’ weapons regularly do change whenever Respawn implements weapon buffs and nerfs, but the Flatline has always been a solid choice in Apex. It remains to be seen if it’ll stay on top for a while this time around, but we wouldn’t be shocked to see it still dominating through the remainder of the season.

  • NICKMERCS highlights major Apex Legends improvement since his return – Dexerto

NICKMERCS highlights major Apex Legends improvement since his return FaZe Clan / RespawnTwitch and YouTube powerhouse Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff has pinpointed a major improvement with shields in Apex Legends, explaining how it rewards talented players. NICKMERCS has been front and center in Apex Legends’ incredible resurgence on Twitch, investing hours into Respawn’s battle royale as Warzone’s struggle with cheaters continues. He has compared the game favorably to CoD’s BR in the past, even explaining why he currently enjoys Apex Legends more. While he played Apex back in 2019 during its early months, he has highlighted a major change with shields that he believes has benefitted the game immensely. Body Shields were initially the dominant form of armor in Apex, but the System Override event saw them replaced temporarily with Evo Shields, which proved so popular they quickly became permanent. The major difference between the two is that Evo Shields can be upgraded by dealing damage to enemies. Previously, the only way to go up levels was to find a better shield, either on the ground or from an eliminated enemy. This is a change Nick highlighted as immensely positive, reducing the potential influence of RNG and rewarding more positive players. “Back when I played this game for the first time if you didn’t find a purple shield you weren’t getting one,” he said. “Now, if you’ve got a grey or a blue or whatever you’ve got you can level that up by doing damage. Easy way to do that is with the Longbow.” While admitting the Kraber is “lit,” Nick picked the Longbow as the game’s best sniper because of how common it is and its ease of use. “I really do like the shield system in this game,” he finished. “How you can kinda grow your shield by doing more damage. I think it eliminates a little bit of an RNG factor in the battle royale mode. [It] gives a little bit more control back to the good players.” Nick’s former go-to title Fortnite received some backlash for removing a similar system in which players received shield boosts upon eliminations. Apex, though, has made it permanent, much to the delight of Nick – and many others.
