How IMC Armories work in Apex Legends: Get high-tier loot by fighting waves of spectres Respawn EntertainmentBrand new for Apex Legends Season 13, IMC Armories are going to be your favorite new drop location. You’ll be able to drop in and get high-tier loot – as long as you can defeat the enemy specters inside. Here’s how IMC Armories work in Apex. As a result of seismic activity on the Storm Point map, caused by the downed beast’s arrival, long-buried IMC Armories, a relic from the frontier war, have resurfaced on the map. These new locations – four of them in total – provide a totally new experience for players, allowing them to get protection from third parties, engage in PvE combat, and get some much-needed loot as a reward. How to use IMC Armories in Apex Legends The Armories are ‘automated combat support structures’, which contain weapons, as well as hordes of spectres, originally designed to support pilots. To use them, you’ll first have to approach, and a ramp will extend, granting access. You can then use a button inside to ‘activate’ the armory, to get access to the loot inside. However, this is protected by the spectres. After pressing the button, you will start a 60-second PvE encounter with the Spectres. While active, the Amory will be locked, and inaccessible by other teams, meaning you’re protected from third parties while inside. If you survive for the full 60-seconds, you will be granted ‘smart loot’ from smart loot bins. This loot is specifically tailored to enhance your current loadout, providing you with upgrades to whatever you currently have. The more spectres you defeat in the 60-seconds, the more loot you will receive. To get out of the Armory, you have two choices – exit the way you came in, or, get blasted up into the sky for a redeploy. IMC Armories locations on Storm Point There are four IMC Armories on the Storm Point map: Northeast of checkpoint – Southeast of Lightning Rod – Between Gale Station / Fish Farms – North of Cenote Cave – Why Apex added IMC Armories We spoke to Samantha Kalman, Game Designer on Apex Legends, who led the design on IMC Armories. Samantha highlighted that in particular, “novice players will benefit from the Armories,” because they provide a practice area of sorts, free from being attacked on all sides, and the ability to get some good loot before having to face human opposition. While some players might not be as interested in the PvE side of things, Kalman and the team expect this, and are hoping that the Armories will give a feeling of choice and decision-making to players. Either go there early to get your match off to a strong start, or use them sparingly, maybe just when there’s a lull in the action. For now, Kalman said, IMC Armories will only be available on the Storm Point map – but the team isn’t ruling out adding them to other maps too, if they prove popular with players.

How good are barrel stabilizers and stocks in Apex Legends? – Dexerto
How good are barrel stabilizers and stocks in Apex Legends? One dedicated Apex Legends player has completed a series of tests to show the benefit of using barrel stabilizers and stocks for various weapons. Apex Legends has a plethora of different attachment types that can be used, some of which are available on almost every gun and others more limited to specific weapons. However, it’s not exactly clear how much of a difference each attachment makes, so users are left to simply test them all out in-game and see for themselves. Thankfully, with the addition of the training mode area to Apex Legends, which is now complete with attachments, it’s possible to pit each against each other in direct comparison. That’s exactly what Reddit user u/Sandix3 has done, providing a simple overview of how important getting kitted out with attachments can be. For this first video, two of the most common attachments are tested, barrel stabilizer and stock (accidentally named ‘shaft’ in the video’) The player also tries out different stock attachments, showing the fairly minor difference in weapon swap times, but in a tight gunfight this could make all the difference. Of course, this isn’t a complete test, and more thorough examinations would include a look at the effect it has on different weapons, as LMGs might see a more pronounced benefit, for example. There are also countless other attachments that could be tested too, such as shotgun bolts and Turbochargers, now that direct side-by-side comparisons are possible in the training mode. Back in March, shortly after Apex was released, YouTuber ‘TheXclusiveAce’ did his own comparison of barrel stabilizers and stocks but, because attachments were not available in training mode, side-by-side wasn’t as simple. A lot has changed in Apex Legends over the course of its lifetime through numerous updates and patches, meaning some of the information in Ace’s YouTube video may be out of date or inaccurate. Perhaps we’ll see another dedicated player put in the long hours to directly compare all other attachments and hop-ups in the game.

How to glitch your way into Apex Legends’ Leviathans – Dexerto
How to glitch your way into Apex Legends’ Leviathans Season 2 of Apex Legends introduced Leviathans that move around King’s Canyon, but they have created several unintended consequences that allow players to find themselves inside of them. The onset of Season 2 brought a lot of new content to Apex Legends, and the Leviathans have pretty much flown under the radar as the season went on. These Leviathans actually house some good loot under them if you’re able to time your moves correctly, but players have also found out they are hiding more secrets than that. How to get inside the Leviathan in Apex Legends In what can most likely be chalked up to a situation of being in the right place at the right time, these players have discovered there are some ways to actually get inside of the Leviathan, and while it offers no tactical advantage, it is still a strange experience you might want to encounter for yourself. The first instance of this is when Reddit user wingedkeyboard discovered there’s an elaborate method that involved Octane’s jump pad, which allowed you to catapult inside of the leg. The scenario requires a lot of things to go right, but it is possible to do. It’s not going to help you win any matches so it’s not worth spending too much time on if you aren’t able to pull it off in the first couple of tries. Another method that requires a lot to go right is getting inside of its head. Reddit user PapaGrease showed how your initial drop could actually end inside of the Leviathan itself, essentially leaving your teammates to fend for themselves because according to him, he was trapped there the entire time. “I was consumed by the storm and my squad ended up dying right before I was killed by it,” he said in a comment. “I wanted to see if I would fall out, but never got the chance.” Well, there you have it. There are now two ways to get inside of the Leviathan but you have to ask yourself one important question – is it really worth it?

How to get loot from Leviathans in Apex Legends without being crushed – Dexerto
How to get loot from Leviathans in Apex Legends without being crushed After being dormant for most of Season 1, the start of Apex Legends Season 2 has seen the Leviathans moving around and even stomping on unsuspecting players, but they deliver powerful loot if you’re quick enough. On top of all the new additions to Apex, players now have to be on the lookout for a well-placed Leviathan stomp that can lead to a swift end to their life. However, if you’re in the right place at the right time, you can swoop in under a Leviathan’s foot and grab the loot it reveals, but only if you make the decision right away. Reddit user azgadian said you only have six seconds from when the Leviathan lifts its foot until when it slams it back down. If you’re able to time everything correctly, you could find yourself grabbing an important piece of loot, perhaps a Phoenix Kit like azgadian found. The key is just making sure you arrive just as the foot rises or else you might end up being crushed. Don’t miss your window If you aren’t paying attention, you might end up being squished like we saw happen to Reddit user SupaSnipaX’s opponent. In the middle of a firefight, the Leviathan leg’s came crashing down and not only did it eliminate his enemy but also rewarded him with the kill. That angle showed us what it looks like from the surviving player’s point of view but popular streamer Tim ‘TimTheTatman‘ Betar showed us what it’s like to be crushed by one of the behemoths. When he realized the Leviathan was preparing itself for the kill, Tim decided to sacrifice himself for the greater good. Leviathans aren’t a joke this season so you’ll need to be wary of their roars and feet. However, they represent a high-risk high-reward type situation so sometimes it’s worth taking a chance with them.

How Apex Legends finisher moves can save your life – Dexerto
How Apex Legends finisher moves can save your life RespawnFinishers in Apex Legends are usually reserved for picking up kills in a humiliating fashion, yet, some players have uncovered ways to use them as life-savers. Anyone who has ever played Respawn Entertainment’s popular battle royale title will know that when you’ve downed an enemy player you’re given the chance to eliminate them in style. These finisher maneuvers, which every Legend has, allow you to score some style points as you secure a kill. However, they can also flip the script and let you keep your own life going – just as long as the timing is right. Redditor Senboni demonstrated the idea perfectly with their highlight clip while playing as Wraith. Senboni was using Wraith’s finishing punch to score an elimination when their duo partner appeared in the background to show off the new tactic. Just as Wraith jumped through her void and went to punch, the newly appeared player tried to throw a punch of their own but the perfect timing meant that they missed and completely whiffed their own killer blow. While that may have been a small friendly fire example of how players can have their games saved by the perfect timing of a finisher, others have shown how to use it when an enemy tries to pounce. Another player, Surise, used Mirage’s finisher to save themselves. As anyone who has played the game knows, the Legends ability allows him to spawn an identical second Mirage – bamboozling enemy players. As soon as Surise was finishing off a downed opponent, another player attempted to shoot them in the back, however, they were left with egg on their face as they shot the clone instead of the actual player. That player isn’t the only one to get sent for a loop after thinking they had a free kill on a pre-occupied Mirage. DocMettey posted their highlight clip as the Legend – but took it one step further than Surise. As DocMettey used their finisher to kill a downed enemy player, they too spotted another player behind them trying to score a free kill. However, they flipped the script on the backstabber by completing their finisher, spinning on the spot and claiming another elimination onto them. The perfect timing from these players should probably serve as a warning to anyone who tries a backstab attempt on a finisher attempt. However, any player who can master the timings perfectly will probably be able to pick up some incredible highlight plays of their own killstreaks.

Seemingly coming out of nowhere, Apex Legends was suddenly thrust into the spotlight after plans of its development and secret release were leaked last week. How Cross-Progression works in Apex Legends – Dexerto
How Cross-Progression works in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentSeason 19 of Apex Legends finally saw the long-awaited arrival of cross-progression. Players on multiple platforms can merge their accounts and enjoy all their stats and unlocks across one unified system. Here’s how cross-progression works in Apex Legends. Cross-progression has been the most requested feature by far in Apex Legends for the better part of three years. While cross-play was finally added in 2020, it took some time for cross-progression functionality to follow. This, Respawn says, was because the game was never created with cross-progression in mind, and so retro-fitting it was no easy task. However, given the fervor from the community about it, they knew it had to be done one way or another. As of Season 19, any Apex player who logs in and has multiple accounts will be able – or rather, forced – to merge their accounts into one single account, regardless of which platform they are on. Cross-progression merges accounts in Apex Legends Respawn explains that cross-progression will be mandatory, and there are no ‘decisions’ for players to make. After receiving an in-game prompt, all your existing accounts on each platform will be merged. The account with the highest level will be treated as the “master account,” with the others simply ceasing to exist. However, if you have multiple accounts with the same level, the one you last logged into will become the “master account.” That said, don’t panic, your unlockables like badges and cosmetics will be combined, and you will receive information about the total items being transferred. This means that after this is complete, you will be playing on the same account, regardless of platform, so PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch will all be linked together. Cross-progression merging will occur like this: Players with multiple accounts will be notified in-game – Account merging is mandatory, there is no choice to make – The highest level account is the “master account” Again, if all your accounts feature the same account level, the one you last logged into will become the “master account” – – Same experience and cosmetics on every platform – What is merged with Apex Cross-Progression? Respawn has clarified what will and won’t be merged, including cosmetics, content, and stats. Bear in mind that stats will not be combined, and will instead reflect your primary account. Along with that, if you lose anything that can’t be earned through gameplay, EA’s support team will try to assist with getting it back to your account. You can read their full explanation here. CONTENT & COSMETICS Unlocked Legends and inventory will be the same across platforms except for platform exclusives, including gifted items. PS+ and Xbox Gold items may be similar, they will be limited to the platform they were earned on unless they were earned on both platforms. Note: the current Apex Legends EA Play Subscription Rewards must be redeemed by October 31, 2023. They will not be available after this date in preparation for Cross Progression’s launch. How to check your Apex Legends stats for kills, win, leaderboards & Ranked – Dexerto
How to check your Apex Legends stats for kills, win, leaderboards & Ranked Want to check your stats in Apex Legends? There are a number of ways to see your performance as a player across game modes and matches in Apex, but you may not be aware of just how in-depth you can go. Here’s how to check your kills, wins, and more. Now in its 15th season, Apex Legends is one of the most popular battle royale games available. Part of this success is that it is a genuinely competitive game, where players can always stand to improve and climb the skill ranks. But, in order to track your progress, and see how your actually improving, you’ll want to keep an eye on your personal stats, to see if they’re moving in the right direction. At first, Apex had no stats page, but this has since been rectified, and you can see many of your top line stats in-game. But, if you want to go deeper, you may also want to use a third-party site like the ones recommended below. How to see kills and wins stats in Apex Legends For the most basic stats, you simply need to navigate to your stats tab in-game. Here, you will be able to see stats like games played, damage dealt, wins, top 5s, and your overall K/D ratio. On the right hand side, you will also be able to see these same stats, but for each season individually. Apex Legends Ranked leaderboards While ranked leaderboards are not available in the current build of Apex Legends, you can use third-party tracking sites to see how you stack up. We would recommend both Apex Tracker and Apex Legends Status for this purpose. These sites will let you see the overall highest-ranked players with the most amount of RP in the game. You can also see leaderboards for things like the most kills with one legend.

How bad is Apex Legends netcode compared to Fortnite and PUBG? – Dexerto
How bad is Apex Legends netcode compared to Fortnite and PUBG? Apex Legends’ players have long been affected by tickrate and a host of netcode issues. But just how can Respawn tackle their connection snags to compete with the likes of Fortnite and other battle royales? After its surprise launch in February 2019, Apex Legends’ innovated the battle royale genre. Ushering in a fluid movement system and a brand new in-game dialogue (with the ping system), the battle royale was the fresh lick of paint that the genre so desperately needed. Respawn pushed the boundaries in terms of what was previously thought to be possible with a battle royale. However, amid all of the unique in-game features, the game’s netcode continues to plague players to this day. Netcode is an umbrella term used to explain the networking dynamics of online gaming. From ping latency to packet loss, netcode refers to all of the parameters which affect the speed at which your client can synchronize with the server. Apex Legends suffers greatly when it comes to tickrate — the frequency at which the client (i.e. the player) sends packets to the server (per second). This is especially pronounced when compared to its battle royale counterparts, such as Fortnite or PUBG. YouTuber Battle(non)sense highlighted the impact this is having on in-game variables, such as gunfire and movement. As pointed out on the Apex Legends subreddit, Apex’s tickrate is currently set at 20 Hz. By comparison, Fortnite (30 Hz) and PUBG (60 Hz) work off a higher client-server threshold. Put simply, if Respawn increased the tickrate of their servers, the game would update with the server more frequently. The net result would be avoiding issues such as that underscored below. In an attempt to flee from the opposition, the player attempts to close the door, which their enemy manages to shoot them through. However, in order to enhance tickrate, Respawn would see a tenfold increase in bandwidth usage, which they would need to accommodate for accordingly. In turn, the issues identified by Battle(non)sense would be mitigated. Of course, this isn’t something Respawn can ‘flick the switch on’ and they’d need to implement this after thorough planning. As of right now, the best way of improving your in-game responsiveness is to select the server with the lowest ping at the home screen of Apex Legends.

How to avoid the fall stun in Apex Legends – Dexerto
How to avoid the fall stun in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentA useful Apex Legends trick lets you avoid the impact stun that comes with falling a large distance. Though there’s no fall damage in Apex Legends, that doesn’t mean falling from a great height can never have consequences. Above a certain distance, falling will cause a small impact stun upon hitting the ground, causing you to stop momentarily and resetting your momentum. Though it’s not always of much consequence, the stun can make you an easier target, and although it’s only brief, that could be the difference between survival and escape if you’re in a firefight. As becomes quite clear if you spend enough time watching high-skilled players like shroud, movement can play almost as big a role in success as aim, and getting the most out of movement in Apex requires keeping your momentum up as much as possible. To avoid losing momentum when you hit the ground, you need to time a melee attack just before the moment of impact. Instead of coming to a halt, your character will kick out as they hit the ground and be able to keep moving. Though you’ll still be momentarily stuck in the animation of the melee, using this tactic will at least mean you’re not slowed down after the fall, making you less of an easy target for enemies. This tactic is ideal for straight falls, but if you happen to land on a slope with some forward momentum, it’s also possible to go straight into a slide by crouching as you hit the ground.

How Arenas works in Apex Legends: Maps, Shop, Rules, Ranked – Dexerto
How Arenas works in Apex Legends: Maps, Shop, Rules, Ranked Respawn EntertainmentA new permanent game mode is now in Apex Legends, Arenas, and it’s totally different from the game’s main battle royale format. Here’s exactly how Apex’s new 3v3 mode works. Apex Legends Legacy released on May 4, and it’s one of the biggest new Season launches yet. From the new high-flying Legend Valkyrie to the long-range Bocek Bow, it’s fair to say Respawn is on track to knock this major update out of the park. Despite all of these exciting additions, it’s the brand new permanent mode that’s got the whole community extremely excited. Apex has always centered around the battle royale genre and Arenas will be the game’s first leap into new territory. With custom-built maps and the potential for a ranked queue in the future, Arenas has the opportunity to offer players a completely new Apex gameplay experience. How do Arenas work in Apex Legends? Put simply, Arenas is a round-based 3v3 competitive mode where teams fight against each other on a set of new custom maps. The first squad to take down every member of the enemy team wins the round. Teammates can be revived but there are no respawns once a player has been killed in a round. Apex Legends Arenas rules Wipe the other team to win the round – First to three rounds, but must win by two – If the match ties 4-4, it goes to Sudden Death – No respawns, but you can revive teammates – There is no ground loot in Arenas, instead, players are put in a prematch buy period that takes place before each of the rounds, where you can spend crafting materials on a loadout of your choice. Read More: Apex Legends voice actors for all characters – Each squad is given a set amount of crafting materials to spend each round, but players are given bonuses depending on their recent performance in the match. You can also pick up more crafting materials during rounds at a few locations on the map. Arenas works in a best of three format, but in order to pick up the victory, a squad will need to win by two rounds total. The maximum amount of rounds is capped at four apiece for each team, at that point, the match turns to sudden death and a final round is played. Legends & abilities in Arenas When it comes to picking your Legend in Arenas, players will follow the standard format of locking in their character before a match. However, abilities act a little differently in Apex’s brand new mode. In order to maintain balance and force players to use strategy, abilities will need to be purchased in the prematch shop before the round for a set amount of materials. This means players will have to choose between a better loadout or more charges of their Tactical or Ultimate. While players will receive a set amount of free charges at the start of rounds, those who prefer to spam their Tactical will need to spend precious materials in order to do so. Different abilities cost different amounts, and have a limited number of charges that can be bought. Apex Legends Arenas shop and loot One of the most exciting aspects of Arenas is the pre-round shop that allows players to choose and customize their loadout. This is a brand new feature for Apex and will be a refreshing change from the loot-based system of the battle royale mode. There is no loot on the map, but players will drop loot on the ground when killed (there are no death boxes). There is a care package each round though, that will drop in a central location. The contents of the care package will improve in later rounds. Buying weapons and equipment The Arenas shop is laid out in an easy-to-navigate menu that allows players to purchase each of the in-game weapons for a set price. These include sniper rifles, ARs, SMGs, shotguns, and grenades. If you’re not sure what to buy each round, we’ve put together this guide to help. Read More: How to pre-register for Apex Legends mobile – In terms of attachments, rather than equipping them individually, weapons can be upgraded in set tiers. This way, each of the attachments in each tier are all added at once so players don’t have to pick and choose. It’s worth noting that players can refund and change their minds when customizing their loadout as much as they want during the allotted time before a match. Just make sure you’re all equipped before the timer hits zero. Apex Legends Arenas maps At the release of Legacy, Arenas will have two custom-built maps and three battle royale-inspired locations for players to fight on. You can check out the list of maps below: Custom Arenas maps Party Crasher: Mirage helped to create this map by crashing his ship into a downtown plaza. The result has formed a dimly lit location filled with vantage points and flanking opportunities. With so many buildings and areas to hide, players will have to be careful not to be taken by surprise by any lurking enemies. Phaserunner: Based in an experimental zone surrounded by mountains, Phaserunner is a circular map that contains the Phase technology found in Olympus. This snowy and nature-filled map is open and offers long-sight lines for players with great aim. On top of this, there’s a phase portal that can be a risky yet potentially rewarding option for squads. Battle royale inspired maps These locations from the classic maps will be on rotation and change every two weeks in Arenas. Artillery (Kings Canyon) – Golden Gardens (Olympus) – Harvester (World’s Edge) – The three maps in rotation (2 custom and one BR-inspired) will rotate every 15 minutes. Arenas Badges Stats, trackers and Badges are all separate for Arenas. At launch, there are four badges you can earn: Shutout – Survivor – Impress Me (Win Streak) – Legend wins – Ranked Arenas At launch, Ranked Arenas are not available in Apex Legends, but Respawn has promised a ranked playlist will come in a future update.

How Apex Legends is doing diversity right – Dexerto
How Apex Legends is doing diversity right Respawn EntertainmentAs the world celebrates Pride Month in 2021, there aren’t many developers out there in the gaming industry that actively work to promote and include the LGBTQI+ community. However, Respawn Entertainment have become the gold standard with Apex Legends. Identity has been something I’ve always struggled with. My Catholic all-girls school taught me to find a straight white male, get married, and have kids. But, I knew for years that wasn’t to be my destiny. Back in the good (or not so good) ol’ days, LGBTQI+ representation in real life was pretty scarce, so there wasn’t much to educate yourself with. Instead, I turned to video games; specifically Dragon Age Origins. With the system letting you romance whoever you liked pending their sexuality, I found myself ignoring the likes of the handsome Alistair or charming Zevran, and instead falling head over heels for the mysterious Morrigan and sharpshooting Liliana. Only many years later did it dawn on me just how much the game shaped my understandings of queer culture, as well as my place within it. While LGBTQI+ characters appear in thousands of titles these days, there’s one specific game that stands out to me as getting it right, and that’s Apex Legends. So, let’s take a deep dive into why Apex is hitting the diversity nail on the head. Not a stereotype in sight One thing that most LGBTQI+ people condemn is societal assumptions of how they should act. Gay men should be flamboyant and overly feminine, whereas gay women should be much more masculine. Bisexuals get “the best of both worlds,” while non-binary and trans people are entirely left out of the debate. What Apex Legends does so well is normalizing what it means to be gay. If you didn’t know Gibraltar was a gay man, or Loba was a bisexual woman, you probably wouldn’t know, the same way that if you look at someone in the street, you have no clue what their sexuality is. Respawn have artfully crafted Legends’ voice lines and characterizations to let you know their identity, but it doesn’t feel forced. All of these Legends are real people (except Pathfinder) despite their insane abilities. They’re people we can empathize and resonate with. That’s what makes Apex stand out above the rest. Bloodhound isn’t a dude – shock horror If you get a game without a Bloodhound, then something has gone very, very wrong. The androgynous Technological Tracker sits at the top of the Apex Legends food chain, but their presence is somewhat revolutionary. Bloodhound is a non-binary character and therefore doesn’t identify as male or female. While most assume they are male, their voice actor, Allegra Clarke, is indeed a woman. Various effects are used to scramble her voice, but it’s proof that Apex isn’t too bothered about gender boundaries. Bloodhound’s prowess within the game means that they’ve become iconic, and for a lot of non-binary people the character is a symbol that they’re finally getting included in wider media and popular culture. Bloodhound is mowing down gender binaries left, right and center, just like they’re mowing down your entire team in-game. Every color of the rainbow Another thing that Apex does well is representing every color on that iconic rainbow flag. We’ve got gay, pansexual, bisexual, and non-binary characters all traversing the Outlands. That’s how it should be. It’s easy for a developer to throw in a gay character and call it a day, but Respawn have represented almost the entire LGBTQI+ spectrum. There’s someone for everyone to look up to, and that’s where Apex triumphs. While the Apex Games may be a far cry from our current reality, the game itself has its feet firmly planted on the ground. But who cares about sexuality in video games? We’ve all seen those comments asking: “Who cares if they’re gay, it’s a video game. Stop bringing real-life issues into games smh.” Well, we care. To borrow the words of Ben Prendergast, the man behind our favorite pansexual Aussie, Fuse: “It’s a really interesting time in popular culture, and Apex Legends and gaming, in general, is beautifully progressive on that front. “Having representation is crucial to normalizing our differences and breaking the toxic cycle of hate. A lot of people don’t realize how strongly our opinions are informed by popular culture, when a great film, TV, or game paints a fairer picture it seeps into our daily lives.” Loba’s voice actor, Fryda Wolff, echoes Ben’s sentiment: “Representation matters! Rather than including a singular token character to embody tired stereotypes and calling it a day, Respawn has made extensive efforts to create a wide range of LGBTQ characters across the gender and sexuality spectrums. “While it’s special that Apex Legends does it, including LGBTQ characters should be average and expected of all fictional worlds. Providing a myriad of gender and sexuality inclusive characters is an early step towards normalizing diversity in fiction.” When I was a kid, I needed a Fuse to look up to, a Loba to enchant me, a Valkyrie to prove that the sky wasn’t the limit, a Gibraltar to teach me freedom is a feeling, a Bloodhound to blow gender stereotypes out of the water. Playing Apex as an adult has forced me to grapple with my own sexuality, and I’ve come out of the other side stronger. I’m jealous of the new gamer generation because they’re growing up with such a wealth of knowledge and inspiration that I didn’t have. When young people look at Apex, they see that it’s okay to be the person that you’re meant to be, whoever that is. They see that it’s okay to be proud of yourself, believe in yourself, be yourself. And that is how Apex is doing diversity right.

How a Titanfall Pilot character could work in Apex Legends – Dexerto
How a Titanfall Pilot character could work in Apex Legends Respawn/EAAn Apex Legends player has devised a pretty simple concept for adding a Titanfall Pilot into the battle royale – even finding a use for their destructive Smart Pistol. Given the obvious ties between Apex Legends and Titanfall, players have been hoping that Respawn Entertainment will continue the crossovers into the future. There has been speculation of classic Titanfall weapons being added, the possible use of the Titans themselves, as well as ideas for using the characters as skins. One player has gone a level above just using the characters found in Titanfall as skins for Apex Legends – coming up with a simple, yet pretty interesting concept for adding a Pilot as a legend. The idea was concocted by Reddit user Darkspace99, who managed to compile some of the much-loved facets about Titanfall into their Pilot character. While keeping the look of the Pilot the same as Titanfall, it’s addition would need three abilities. For the Passive, Darkspace99 suggested that the character could have a Jump Kit that allows them to wall run with a small speed boost – sort of like Octane’s Stim The idea also noted that the Pilot’s tactical ability could be a double jump, allowing them to scale buildings like Revenant. The controversial Smart Pistol would even get worked in as the Ultimate – giving players a few shots using the weapon’s auto-lock. Some players pointed that while the concept was pretty interesting, having the Smart Pistol in-game would take some serious balancing – and might make the Pilot an incredibly overpowered legend. Of course, if it ever happened, that would all fall onto Respawn’s shoulders to figure out and make sure the game remained in a competitive state. The next legend to be added to Apex Legends will be Loba in season five, but we could see some sort of obvious Titanfall related legend further down the line. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Horizon voice actor nails Apex Legends cosplay as her own character – Dexerto
Horizon voice actor nails Apex Legends cosplay as her own character Respawn/IG: ElleNewlandsgramElle Newlands, the voice actor of Season 7’s legend Horizon, has shared an incredible cosplay of the Scottish Gravitational Manipulator she voices in Apex Legends. That’s right, she cosplayed herself. In the Apex Legends community, it has become common for fans and players to share their creations, whether it be artwork, legend concepts or cosplays. The latter take a lot of time, effort and skill to do well – thanks mainly to the incredible character design on display. Horizon, an out-spoken Scottish Gravitational Manipulator, was added with the inception of Apex Legends’ seventh season, back on November 4. She brought a new level of verticality to the Olympus map, thanks to her manipulation of physics. Mains of the Scottish legend (and probably those who have played alongside her) will also have grown accustomed to her regularly vocalizing about her own intelligence. Now, Elle Newlands – the voice actor behind her “I’m a bloody genius!” – has shared an awesome cosplay of her own legend. “Time for experimentation, evaluation and a wee cuppa tea,” she captioned the post. “When the Cosplayee becomes Cosplayer, it’s been a long year this week…” The attached cosplay is simple and effective. Newlands has got the voluminous ginger hair down to a tee, and there’s some large goggles resting atop the stylish hairdo. She also threw in a trademark pen – although she did reveal that the ‘pen’ was indeed a toothbrush. “Time for experimentation, evaluation and a wee cuppa tea” When the Cosplayee becomes Cosplayer 🤣🤣 it’s been a long year this week …..#horizon #horizonapex #horizonapexlegends #ApexLegends 💫⭐️🌙🚀 pic.twitter.com/GDZ2nbwVd5 — Elle Newlands (@ElleNewlands) January 9, 2021 When fans suggested that she’s so convincing as Horizon she may as well play her, Newlands replied: “I’m slowly just becoming her. She has a way more exciting life.” Her cosplay was also appreciated by some Respawn colleagues, with designer Jason McCord and animator Moy Parra throwing praise the way of the voice actor. We can look forward to seeing voice actor Chris Edgerly somehow transform himself into Pathfinder for our entertainment in the near future.

Horizon trick makes it easy to land faster on Olympus in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Horizon trick makes it easy to land faster on Olympus in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends TikTok has showcased a powerful trick for Horizon that allows her to land significantly faster on Olympus and get the first shot off on her opponents. In Apex Legends Season 13, Octane, Wraith, Bloodhound, Pathfinder, and Valkyrie have stood out as the most popular characters in the community. Despite this, there is another Legend that’s made an impressive resurgence into the meta over the last few seasons and that’s Horizon. The Gravitational Manipulator’s impressive mobility and AoE ultimate are definitely her strongest tools, but her Spacewalk Passive often gets overlooked. Well, one Apex player has discovered a unique and powerful trick involving her Passive that guarantees you’ll land quicker than your opponents on Olympus. Powerful Horizon landing trick on Olympus is easy to execute Horizon’s Spacewalk Passive reduces fall impacts, allowing her to maintain a slide when other Legend would have their movement canceled. One Apex player has discovered that this ability can be used to gain a massive advantage over your opponents when landing at the Energy Depot POI on Olympus. By using the steep curved roof from the Turbine POI, Horizon can slide down the terrain using her Passive, and bounce off the cliff face to land significantly faster than her opponents. As this area is packed with loot, you’re guaranteed to find a weapon and get the first shot off on your opponents. Not only that, Energy Depot is a popular hotspot, so it gives you the chance to rack up a lot of kills. While this technique is dependent on the path of the dropship, it’s still an extremely useful trick to keep in mind if you’re a fan of Horizon. It’s especially helpful if you’re looking to secure a 4k damage badge, as it’s easy to beam down enemies at the start of a match if they can’t fight back.

Horizon paired with Gravity Cannons is overpowered in Apex Legends Season 11 – Dexerto
Horizon paired with Gravity Cannons is overpowered in Apex Legends Season 11 Respawn EntertainmentHorizon’s Passive paired with the new Gravity Cannons on Storm Point is a combo that makes rotating across the map in Apex Legends incredibly easy and effective. After a set of significant nerfs to her Gravity Lift back in Season 9, the Gravitational Manipulator isn’t the top-tier pick she used to be and is currently the tenth most popular Legend in-game. However, with the launch of Season 11, Horizon has been given a new lease of life and it’s thanks to a brand new feature added with the Storm Point map. Implemented to replace Jump Towers, Gravity Cannons are huge contraptions that propel Legends into the air and across the map. While they’re just simple rotational tools for most characters, Horizon’s Passive allows her to push the Gravity Cannons to the limit and travel unbelievably long distances. Horizon Gravity Cannon trick is perfect for rotations Horizon’s Passive ability Spacewalk allows her to control her movement through the air and reduce fall impact when she hits the ground. Although this isn’t particularly useful for Jump Towers, Gravity Cannon’s fire Legends horizontally, so Horizon can bounce multiple times after hitting the ground. This makes it easy to travel nearly twice as far as any other characters in the game, making it simple to retreat from a gunfight or pursue a retreating squad. Reddit user redityuh showcases the trick in a thread on the Apex Legends subreddit, displaying how far Horizon can travel after hopping into a Gravity Cannon. While this trick certainly won’t put Horizon into the strongest pick on Storm Point overnight, it’s definitely worth knowing if you main the Gravitational Manipulator, or struggle with rotations in your matches. Just make sure to land into a slide to maintain your momentum and you’ll be able to travel huge distances, just make sure not to leave your squad behind!

Horizon officially revealed in Apex Legends via new Season 7 teasers – Dexerto
Horizon officially revealed in Apex Legends via new Season 7 teasers Respawn EntertainmentA new round of teasers for Apex Legends Season 7 has officially revealed a character named Horizon, as Respawn starts to wind up the hype for the next era in the battle royale. [jwplayer KEHOOBWR] The studio introduced a ‘monitor’ in the Firing Range which served as a terminal that played a video featuring someone talking off-screen. After completing all the challenges handed to you, the monitor officially introduces Dr. Mary Somers, also called Horizon. That was a strong indication that Respawn could have Horizon queued up to be the Season 7 Legend, especially since she says “see ya real soon, darlins.” About a month out from the next season is about the time that the devs like to whet their fans’ appetites for new content. Now we have a clear picture of who to expect to play in the Games soon. By how she introduced herself, it also sounds like Horizon and her crew will be making a major splash in Apex Legends whenever they finally debut. “All that data you’ve provided us will come in handy… when we face ya in the Games,” Horizon said, after the player completed all of the challenges. The same day as the teaser released in Apex, Respawn also announced the Championship Edition of the game that will be coming in Season 7. In that trailer, we see the silhouette of the next Legend for the game, which could very well be Horizon. Earlier in October, dataminer ‘Biast’ found the challenges and the teaser that players are finding today. Horizon’s badge was also previewed in these leaks, with the image of her face and prominent goggles. Horizon was also listed as an Offensive-type Legend in another slate of leaks that listed six other characters that were rumored for Apex. It should be noted that the order of the characters in that leak suggested she was still four Legend releases away from coming to Apex, but that obviously wouldn’t be the case if she arrives in Season 7. Read more: How to enable Nvidia Reflex in Apex Legends – While the in-game teaser has made Horizon an official character in Apex, fans should still wait to see if she turns out to be an Offensive Legend. These teasers usually leaves people with more questions than they answer, but everything should be more clear when Season 7 launches in Apex Legends.

Horizon’s Heirloom finally revealed in Apex Legends Dressed to Kill Collection Event – Dexerto
Horizon’s Heirloom finally revealed in Apex Legends Dressed to Kill Collection Event Respawn/EAHorizon mains can finally rejoice as her Heirloom, Gravity Maw, has finally been revealed in the Dressed to Kill Collection Event for Apex Legends. Heirlooms are the most sought-after items in all of Apex Legends, giving each character a unique melee weapon that can go into battle with. While these weapons don’t provide any competitive bonuses, they add to the backstory of the legends. And they prove how dedicated you are to using them as your main character. At the start of Season 17, there had been 15 Heirlooms introduced to the battle royale, but fans had been desperately awaiting Horizon to be next in the queue. The Gravitational Manipulator has long been a fan-favorite in Apex Legends, previously dominating the meta across a few seasons. Many were disappointed when she was passed over and Ash got an Heirloom instead. However, there is now cause for celebration. Horizon Gravity Maw Heirloom finally revealed for Apex Legends With the all-new collection event, Dressed to Kill, Horizon has finally gotten her Heirloom in the form of Gravity Maw. The melee weapon is styled on a medieval mace. Of course, with it being Horizon-themed, there is plenty of space and black hole-inspired elements to it as well. Enemies are sure to get sucked into its vortex if you’re wielding it in the Apex Games. As with all Heirlooms, you’ll unlock it in the collection event if you collect all 24 new skins before the end of the event. You can also use any Heirloom Shards you’ve had stored away for a rainy day to unlock it as well.

Horizon buffed in Apex Legends Season 10, but Legendary skin gets roasted – Dexerto
Horizon buffed in Apex Legends Season 10, but Legendary skin gets roasted Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment have confirmed Horizon will be getting a welcome buff in Apex Legends Season 10, but players aren’t too happy with the new Legendary skin that’s being added with the Battle Pass. The next major update is called Emergence and drops on August 3, 2021, with a number of details already revealed for the patch notes. Some of the game’s Legends will be hit with game changes, too, as a number of buffs and nerfs have been confirmed ahead of time. One of those affected is Horizon, who has been downtuned on multiple occasions in recent seasons, but this time there is a chance that she’ll come back up the game’s tier list with scheduled tweaks. Horizon buff explained in Apex Legends Season 10 According to Respawn, Horizon’s movement speed nerf will be reverted in Season 10 when using the Gravity Lift – but not fully. Read More: L-STAR gets massive buff in Apex Legends – This will make the Scottish fighter more mobile while using the Lift, which her mains are excited about. New Horizon Legendary skin isn’t a hit However, there is something they are a lot less thrilled over, and that’s her new Legendary skin. The game’s dev team have unveiled two for the next season, one for Horizon and another for Valkyrie. The former, though, has been facing some stern criticism since it was revealed. People are not happy with the makeup. https://twitter.com/xLulukinz/status/1419678902260207620 Bruh who in their right mind seen that horizon skin and thought, “the players are gonna love this.” Plz plz get them off the design team — Kyle Rayner (@KyleRay17085246) July 26, 2021 Apex Legends Reddit Legendary skins are in short supply for Apex Legends with just a few Legends picked each season to get a new look, which may explain the frustration from Horizon mains. Similar comments could also be found on Reddit, with one player writing: “I thought Loba’s makeup was bad.” The thread below has over 8,500 upvotes at the time of writing. Another posted: “They do it on male characters, too. They f**k Mirage over every time they paint his face.” It’s all confirmed now, though, so it’s extremely unlikely Respawn Entertainment will change it.

Horizon and Revenant hit with massive nerfs in Apex Legends Harbinger Collection Event patch – Dexerto
Horizon and Revenant hit with massive nerfs in Apex Legends Harbinger Collection Event patch Respawn EntertainmentRevenant and Horizon, two of the most prominent aggro picks in Apex Legends, have been hit with some serious nerfs in the latest Harbinger Collection Event patch. The latest Apex Legends patch may not be a patch for a new Season, but the few major changes that have been made will have some serious impact. Along with the Nemesis finally getting some nerfs as well as Rampart and Fuse getting buffed (just in time for Fuse’s new heirloom), both Horizon and Revenant are getting some big nerfs. Though neither Legend will be completely out of the meta as a result of these changes, they’re both going to be much weaker than they were before. Apex Legends devs target Horizon and Revenant with big nerfs Though top-level play had a meta dominated by Bangalore, Catalyst, and Horizon, only one of those Legends has been nerfed. Horizon’s been an absolute menace since she was released, and she’s been hit with a fair few nerfs over the years. However, she’s getting hit especially hard in the Harbinger Collection Event patch notes. With her tactical, the main draw for her kit, getting drastically nerfed, she’ll have a significantly reduced power level. The nerfs are as follows: Weapon accuracy decreased while in Lift (more spread) – Vertical Lift speed reduced by 20% – Hover time at top of Lift reduced to 0.5s (was 2.0s) – Playing around Horizon’s tactical is something high level players excel at in Apex Legends, but these nerfs are substantial enough to be felt at all levels of play when you’re playing with or against Horizon. Having less time to stall at the top of the lift, decreased lift speed, and decreased weapon accuracy are all meaningful nerfs. With so many other strong Skirmishers in the game, Horizon may end up getting dethroned. Meanwhile, Revenant’s nerfs are meant to pare back his power hot on the heels of his rework as they nail down his balance. His ultimate has been drastically toned down, though his tactical got a small quality of life buff. Forged Shadows (Ultimate) Reduced time extension from knocks to 5 seconds (was 10 seconds) – Extra damage to the shroud will bleed through to Revenant if it breaks – Shadow Pounce (Tactical) Slightly increased pounce angle compensation when looking at the ground – The reduced time extension is a hit, sure, but the second nerf is a huge deal in certain situations. Revenant’s shield will no longer tank a full hit from whatever fells it, making Shotguns and Snipers much more effective than they were before. However, these are just a few of many balance changes in the Apex Legends Harbinger Collection Event patch notes. The Apex Legends meta is sure to look much different from before once the update goes live.

Hololive’s Minato Aqua completes mega Apex Legends challenge after a year – Dexerto
Hololive’s Minato Aqua completes mega Apex Legends challenge after a year YouTube: Aqua Ch. / Respawn EntertainmentHololive star Minato Aqua has finally completed an Apex Legends challenge a year in the making. The virtual maid finally completed her solo queue to Masters quest after benching it due to health concerns and other commitments, leaving her in shock. Minato Aqua is known as one of the best gamers in Hololive, but she had to put the mouse and keyboard down in 2021 due to health issues and talent commitments. At the time, she was trying to complete her dream challenge — reaching Master rank in Apex Legends. She had lingered around in Diamond for quite some time, but could never get that shiny purple border. Aqua was determined to do it alone; to try and silence the haters who doubted her after she pulled out the first time. Finally, 12 months on after embarking on the challenge, Minato Aqua finally has the rank she’s long sought after. 湊あくあはまだまだ止まらねぇぞ…! pic.twitter.com/hLtHiUpfNr — 湊あくあ(本物) (@minatoaqua) February 4, 2022 It came on a February 4 stream, two weeks on after she kickstarted the challenge again. She started in Platinum 4 and slowly grinded her way up to Diamond 1, where she sat tantalizingly close to her dream. In a clinical final game though, where she racked up four kills with 1000 damage in a big win, she finally saw that rank up screen, and it left her in tears. “Is this what you call ‘choking up on your words’? I’m really happy,” she said, breaking down on stream. “A year ago I tried the solo Master challenge but I couldn’t achieve it. I was really frustrated and I let everyone that believed in me down. “People were saying that it might be impossible after all, but this is real. I’m really happy. I’m glad that I worked hard to achieve it. People were saying ‘it’s impossible’ or ‘you’re not a gamer maid anymore’, but thank you everyone that believed and waited for me.” Watch the final moments of Minato Aqua’s Apex challenge here. She was joined by more than 50,000 people live — her single YouTube stream outnumbering the number of viewers on Twitch for Apex Legends at the same time (which sat at around 44,000 viewers) — and the VOD has now been watched more than a million times. “Thank you so much for all your support until the end,” she said on Twitter after ending her stream. “I did my best even though I kept being told it was impossible. This effort was not in vain.” With Master now achieved, Minato Aqua could choose to push to Predator — with Season 12 around the corner that may be hard. But the maid feels like she’s redeemed herself and is ready to take on whatever gaming challenge sits around the corner in 2022.

Holo-spray exploit makes Octane’s stim even faster in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Holo-spray exploit makes Octane’s stim even faster in Apex Legends Respawn/EAApex Legends players have uncovered an exploit with Octane’s Stim ability and his Holo Spray that seemingly allows the daredevil to get an even bigger speed boost than normal. Even though Apex Legends Season 6 has brought Rampart, countless map changes, cosmetics, and changes to the loot pool, it has also brought a few problems along with it as well. While players have been quick to find exploits with using Rampart’s turret, there are also bugged skins, and audio issues that are running rampant during matches. However, fans have also uncovered a new exploit that allows Octane to get an even greater speed boost than normal while using his Stim ability. While the high-speed daredevil already gets a decent boost while his Stim is activated, players have found that if they time a Holo Spray at the right time, Octane’s speed boost appears to be even greater than normal. As Reddit user Benavas explains, by timing the ability and holo spray together just as Octane’s previous Stim is just about to run out, they can carry on running for a little bit longer – chaining Stims together to run across the map. Obviously, it can be pretty difficult to time right but getting the timing spot on means that Octane would become a pretty elusive target if the player is able to chain one after another. Though, if he is down pretty low on health, you could take him down with a pinpoint shot. Given that it could present a pretty big problem for players who fighting against Octane, Respawn might just have to patch this in the coming weeks. As of writing, the devs have confirmed that they’re working on fixing the “useless” knockdown shields, but this problem hasn’t been added to the list, so we’ll just have to wait and see what they do in regards to it.

HisWattson warns next Apex Legends update could be “a huge step back” – Dexerto
HisWattson warns next Apex Legends update could be “a huge step back” Respawn Entertainment/Twitch: HisWattsonApex Legends pro HisWattson is excited about the ranked play changes coming in Season 17, but he’s fearful it could also be taking “a huge step back”. Season 17 of Apex Legends begins on May 9, and Respawn Entertainment didn’t pull any punches with changing up the current state of the game. They announced the newest legend Ballistic alongside a massive overhaul to the game’s rank system. Highlights include a new matchmaking system, ranking points being replaced by ladder points, and the complete removal of splits. Matchmaking will also build games based on a skill rating rather than the player’s rank. Ranked points being replaced by ladder points is something HisWattson feels the community isn’t talking about enough, and HisWattson explained why this change deserves more attention. Hiswattson claims removing the Apex Legends ranked entry fee is a step back On the Apex Experience podcast with Falloutt, HisWattson explained: “I am excited about the new ranked system, but there are some changes in there that take a step back.” The Apex Legends pro added: “In what I assume is happening, Masters Plus does not have a scaling entry cost, and if that is the case, that’s a huge step back.” Rank points replace ladder points in Season 17. Ladder Points will be required to enter a ranked game like Ranked Points. However, the entry fee has been flattened across the board for all ranks. Before, players were forced to pay a higher entry fee at higher ranks. Removing a high entry fee cost makes it easier for higher-ranked players to keep their rank, even if they don’t necessarily deserve it. HisWattson believes that there should be a scaling entry cost at the highest level of Apex Legends competitive play, but he isn’t sure about its potential impact on Bronze-Diamond matches. “When scaling entry cost first came out, that was a great ranked split.” The Apex Legends pro wants to keep an open mind heading into the new season, admitting that 90% of the patch notes looked good to him.

HisWattson slams Apex Legends devs for catering Ranked towards “casuals” – Dexerto
HisWattson slams Apex Legends devs for catering Ranked towards “casuals” Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin has criticized the devs for catering Ranked towards “casuals” and has asked Respawn to fix it. Back in Season 13, Respawn introduced the Ranked Reloaded update that completely overhauled the competitive mode. While these changes were positively received at first, the community quickly identified issues with the new system, especially for those in Diamond, Master, and Predator. As a result, over the last few seasons, pros and players alike have called on the devs to rework Ranked once again. For HisWattson, the current Ranked system caters to “casuals”, so the FURIA pro took to Twitter to ask Respawn to fix it. HisWattson calls on Respawn to “fix” Apex Legends Ranked On January 16, HisWattson took to Twitter and posted his problem with Ranked, saying the mode is supposed “to be a competitive game mode and not catered towards casuals”. Despite this, he feels as if Respawn are heading in the other direction and are not creating an environment where players can showcase their skills. To him, Ranked in Season 15 doesn’t feel like a competitive mode where he’s being challenged. Instead, the FURIA pro cannot tell the difference between Ranked and pubs in its current state. DarkZero’s Jamison ‘PVPX’ Moore also chimed into the conversation, revealing that they “gave feedback directly to the dev team for 1+ year” and instead of listening, they “made the exact opposite changes”. Clearly losing patience with the competitive mode, Wattson jokingly responded that “apex gets closer and closer to Mario Party every patch”. Although matchmaking changes are finally being implemented, there’s no sign that another Ranked overhaul is on the cards anytime soon. Of course, with Season 16 on the horizon, there’s a chance Apex’s competitive mode receives some attention, but with no word from the devs, it seems unlikely.

HisWattson says Pathfinder feels “horrible” in Apex Legends as he releases tier list – Dexerto
HisWattson says Pathfinder feels “horrible” in Apex Legends as he releases tier list Respawn Entertainment / Twitter @HisWattsonAfter releasing his Solo Queue Tier List, HisWattson said Pathfinder feels “horrible” to play when you’re going in alone. With 24 Legends in Apex Legends as of Season 17, there’s plenty of variety among the expansive roster. From abilities to different hitboxes, there are a bunch of factors that make a character worth playing over another. In Season 17, characters like Pathfinder, Octane, and Wraith have proven to be the most popular Legends thanks to their abilities and performance in the game’s ever-changing meta. However, pro Apex Legends player Jacob ‘HisWattson‘ McMillin has said he thinks Pathfinder feels “horrible” to play when solo queueing thanks to one very big factor. HisWattson thinks Pathfinder is not great for solo play On June 11, 2023, HisWattson tweeted out his own Solo Queue Tier List in Apex Legends. Among the top spots were Loba, Horizon, Bangalore, Octane, and Wraith. While Pathfinder wasn’t far behind at the top of B-Tier, the pro player made it clear that characters with large hitboxes are “just a massive L.” He went on to explain: “If your hitbox is 2x bigger than someone else you have to average 2x more value from your abilities which just doesn’t really happen.” Naturally, if a Legends’ hitbox is bigger than average, that means it’s innately easier for an enemy to land shots on that Legend. As such, Legends like Pathfinder, Vantage, and Gibby have an innate disadvantage compared to characters like Wraith, for example. However, the pro player also said that “Characters with low mobility are also pretty useless,” which likely bumped Pathfinder up plenty of spots on the list. TSM Raven contested HisWattson’s claim that Vantage’s placement on the list, and noted her mobility and “hitscan sniper” help her in solo queue matches. The FURIA player countered and said, “I mean maybe if you play super passive but sometimes you gotta be a gigachad and the big hitbox just feels awful… Pathfinder and Vantage just feel absolutely horrible for me.” While performance always comes down to pure skill at the end of the day, it’s certainly true that a Legends’ unique characteristics factor into matches as well.

HisWattson quits streaming Apex Legends “until further notice” due to cheaters – Dexerto
HisWattson quits streaming Apex Legends “until further notice” due to cheaters Electronic ArtsApex Legends streamer and off-and-on pro player Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin has said he will not stream the game “until further notice.” The popular creator cited constant matches with cheaters as his reason for taking an extended hiatus. HisWattson cut his four most recent streams short after loading into Predator rank matches with either stream snipers or cheaters. His July 8 and July 9 streams were both under an hour long as HisWattson rage quit Apex Legends after only a few games. The player first expressed his frustrations on July 4 but was still optimistic that he would find matches without a cheater or stream sniper in the following days. But by July 9, HisWattson was over dealing with unfair fights and aim bots. “Day 4 of having all my games ruined by cheaters. Dude literally has my notifications locked and loaded. Not going to stream Apex until further notice. Sorry everyone,” he said on social media. During his most recent broadcast, the streamer was hoping to reach the top five on the ranked ladder in Apex Legends, but he quickly abandoned playing the game and said he wouldn’t return until someone at EA or Respawn fixed the issue. “I’m not playing until I get a message back from someone. I’m literally not going to open Apex until someone tells me they can fix my problem. I’m not doing it, this is so stupid. If they don’t care about me then I’ll play something else,” HisWattson said. Before ending the stream, the player recounted that a Valorant creator told him Riot Games deals cheaters in their ranked matches more seriously and takes care of their high-end streamers. “In Valorant when this happens someone not only bans [the cheater] as fast as possible, they’ll sit there and watch their next like 10 games to make sure it doesn’t happen again. That’s the game that I want to play,” he said. Whether HisWattson will load up another title during his streams or just remain offline until a Respawn representative responds to him remains to be seen. During his last broadcast, he said he would post about the situation on social media if someone ever got back to him. Apex has been dealing with cheaters at almost all ranks for years now, and it has started to wear not just on the competitive base but casual players as well. Some are even calling the game close to dead as its active player count has declined, and Respawn and EA have started raising prices for the Battle Pass.

HisWattson not worried about Apex Legends’ future despite pros’ Ranked concerns – Dexerto
HisWattson not worried about Apex Legends’ future despite pros’ Ranked concerns Respawn Entertainment/Twitch: HisWattsonApex Legends pro Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin believes the battle royale will be relevant for at least another two years amid fears players could walk away if Season 18 is bad. Over the last few seasons of Apex Legends, many players – both professional and causal – have been quick to doom the future of the battle royale, suggesting that it doesn’t have much longer left in its lifecycle. Respawn’s battle royale has continued to chug along. Though, there has been a drop off in the player count – at least on PC, anyway – over the last few seasons, with many complaining about a serious content drought. TSM’s ImperialHal recently suggested that Apex cannot survive another bad season, hoping that Season 18 “surely” would be the one to turn the battle royale’s fortunes around. HisWattson believes Apex Legends will be “relevant” for years Well, Furia pro HisWattson isn’t too sure about the doomsayers and believes the game has a fair bit left in the tank. It was something that came up during a recent stream, as he touched on the wider point of Respawn ignoring pros over Ranked play changes. “Apex will be relevant for at least two years, and a lot longer if it ran well. Even if it ran like a steaming pile of garbage, two years,” the Furia star said, noting that Respawn has lost a number of devs who initially created the game and that ideas could change. Though, he noted that it’s hardly likely that newer devs are going to take away the core mechanics that make Apex what it is. HisWattson also pointed to the split between players over how Ranked how should work, noting that high-level players and pros want it to be as competitive as possible. “What the pro players want is a competitive Ranked system, Season 13, we got it and that’s what we like. Apex does not care about their game being competitive. They want to hold as many people as possible, that’s their goal,” he said. “Nothing wrong with that, totally fine. What is the most competitive is not necessarily what will hold the most amount of people for them so there’s no point in arguing with them about Ranked because what we want and what they want is totally different.” Respawn have already said that they are reluctant to revert to older systems but they are considering changes to Ranked.

HisWattson explains why Ash isn’t viable in ALGS after major buffs – Dexerto
HisWattson explains why Ash isn’t viable in ALGS after major buffs Respawn Entertainment/Twitch: HisWattsonApex Legends pro Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin has explained why Ash still isn’t a strong enough pick for the ALGS despite receiving huge buffs to her Tactical. Since her release, Ash has been a fan-favorite character in Apex Legends thanks to her Titanfall roots and aggressive kit. However, in recent seasons, the Incisive Instigator’s pick rate has been slowly dropping, so Respawn decided to implement some major buffs to her Tactical in the Sun Squad Collection Event on March 28. While these have resulted in her pick rate spiking upwards by 10%, she hasn’t broken into the competitive meta just yet. Well, FURIA pro HisWattson spoke about Ash on stream and explained why she isn’t a viable option in the ALGS even after her Tactical improvements. HisWattson says “one dimensional” Ash isn’t viable in ALGS For HisWattson, the biggest problem is that Ash is “one-dimensional” and her abilities are “not multi-purpose” so it’s hard to justify fitting her into a team comp over a stronger Legend. The FURIA pro did make it clear that one-dimensional characters like Fuse do have a role in competitive play, but they have to be “f***ing insane” at their specific job. Unfortunately, in his opinion, there is no scenario in an ALGS match where Ash is ever going to be “OP” in her current state. So, it’s usually better to opt for a more well-rounded Legend that can bring significantly more value to the squad. With no “niche” or standout feature in her kit that separates her from the roster, it’s unlikely Ash will be breaking into the ALGS meta anytime soon. Despite this, that doesn’t mean she’s a bad pick for Ranked or casual play, as her Tactical, Passive, and Ultimate all come together to create an aggressive kit that’s perfect for hunting down kills.

HisWattson explains why Apex Legends pros always call out enemies for cheating – Dexerto
HisWattson explains why Apex Legends pros always call out enemies for cheating Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin has explained why high-ranked players immediately call out their enemies for cheating whenever they’re eliminated from a match. As with any multiplayer FPS, Apex Legends suffers from cheaters who gain an unfair advantage by using third-party software. While these hackers appear in every mode, they’re particularly common in Ranked as climbing the ladder and hitting specific tiers can be extremely challenging. As a result of this, a lot of pros and streamers in Masters and Predator often call out their enemies for cheating as soon as they’re taken down in a fight. This doesn’t always go down well with viewers, who believe they’re jumping to conclusions. Well, HisWattson addressed the issue on stream and explained why so many pros are quick to label their opponents as hackers in Ranked. HisWattson reveals why pros call out so many enemies as hackers During a recent stream, one of HisWattson’s viewers asked him why he always thinks his enemies are cheating in Ranked. In response, he revealed that pros don’t accuse opponents of hacking because “they’re mad or malding, it’s because there’s an insane amount of cheaters in high-elo”. According to Wattson, there have been “cheaters that have finished as number one Pred”, so high-ranked players always have to be suspicious and have their guard up. Not only that, he reminded his viewers that pros “play against the best players in the game almost every single day, [so] they know what a real player looks like”. HisWattson did concede that streamers and pros are “not going to be right every single time”, but he argues in most cases, they’re accurate with their accusations. Either way, this discussion highlights how much of a problem hackers are causing at high ranks and with HisWattson being one of the most vocal pros about the issue, it’ll be interesting to see if Respawn improves their anti-cheat anytime soon. Without a doubt it’s one of the most requested features from the community, so we’ll have to wait whether the devs have any upcoming plans.

HisWattson explains his poor performance in Apex Legends after missing out on ALGS playoffs – Dexerto
HisWattson explains his poor performance in Apex Legends after missing out on ALGS playoffs Respawn Entertainment/Twitch: HisWattsonApex Legends pro Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin has revealed the reason behind his poor performances in the ALGS, explaining that “70-hour work weeks” have taken a “toll” on his body and his play. FURIA Esports player HisWattson is one of the most well-known and popular pros in the Apex Legends community. The talented player has won countless tournaments and even managed to secure the ALGS: 2022 Championship back in July. Despite this, Wattson and his team failed to qualify for the upcoming ALGS Playoffs in London, missing out on a spot by one place after finishing 11th. Following this result, Wattson has revealed why his performances took a dip in the latter half of the year and explained to fans how he’s going to fix his play in 2023. HisWattson reveals why he hasn’t been playing at his peak Taking to Twitter on January 9, HisWattson explained that he will no longer be working “70-hour” weeks and will be cutting down to “40 hours” max. This is because this schedule has been “taking a toll” on his body and he’s “afraid that staying this pace could kill” him. Not only that, he believes that “a year and a half” of overworking is one of the reasons FURIA didn’t qualify for LAN. The stress and lack of recovery meant that he “couldn’t operate anywhere close to 100%”, so reducing his workload could be the answer and allow him to get back on track. It’s clear Wattson wants to start competing for Championships again with FURIA but to do so, he’s realized that his health and well-being have to become a top priority. Wattson and FURIA will be back again to compete in Split 2 of the ALGS and will be aiming for higher than 11th for a spot at LAN.

HisWattson claims Seer isn’t OP & shouldn’t be nerfed in Apex Legends – Dexerto
HisWattson claims Seer isn’t OP & shouldn’t be nerfed in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro player Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin has claimed Seer isn’t overpowered and shouldn’t be nerfed next patch. Since his release all the way in Season 10, Seer has been a controversial character on the Apex Legends roster. This is primarily due to his abundance of scan and wallhack abilities that allow him to see enemies through the terrain. His x-ray vision during intense gunfights is one of the reasons why he’s been so popular in competitive play and Ranked in Season 15. As a result, the community has been calling for the Ambush Master to be nerfed and a dev has even confirmed that changes are on the horizon for Seer. Well, Apex pro HisWattson disagrees that Seer needs to be nerfed and argues he’s slowly falling out of the meta, so any downgrades to his kit will ensure he has a “zero play rate”. HisWattson explains why Seer shouldn’t be nerfed While the majority of the Apex community are desperate for Seer to be nerfed, HisWattson disagrees and argues the Ambush Master doesn’t need to be changed next patch. According to him, Respawn allowed Seer to “terrorize” Season 14 and should have altered his kit when it was needed. He argues that in Season 15 the community has found counters and “he’s not even meta”, so it’s now a bad time to nerf him. Not only that, he claims that downgrading his abilities will result in him going back to a “zero play rate again”. It’s clear HisWattson no longer believes Seer is a problem and that other Legends should be prioritized over him when it comes to nerfs. It’s safe to say that the wider Apex community does not agree with this statement, with countless players complaining about Seer for multiple seasons. However, when it comes to pick rate in Season 15, Seer certainly doesn’t stand out as an immensely popular Legend, sitting at 4.6% overall. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see what the devs have planned for the upcoming balance patch and whether Seer receives minor or major changes.

HisWattson blasts Apex Legends matchmaking again as Rookies face Preds – Dexerto
HisWattson blasts Apex Legends matchmaking again as Rookies face Preds Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin has slammed Respawn’s matchmaking once again after seeing that Rookie players are being placed against Predators. While the Apex Legends community is constantly suggesting ways for the devs to improve the game, nothing is mentioned more than matchmaking. Skill differential in lobbies has been a serious problem in Respawn’s battle royale for a long time, but finally, on January 17, a blog post was released explaining how they’re going to improve the quality of matches. Following this on January 20, Respawn released another statement to European players that they may experience “unusual pairings” in Ranked on account of their testing and attempts to improve the system. Well, since then Apex pro HisWattson has taken to Twitter to reveal that Rookies are being placed against Predator players in the competitive mode. Not only that, the replies to his tweet are filled with countless other players facing the same top-tier opponents despite being in Silver and Bronze. HisWattson shows Rookie players are being placed against Preds Taking to Twitter on January 20, HisWattson showcased that a level 37 Rookie player had been killed by a Predator while playing Ranked. Describing the matchmaking as “foul”, it’s obvious Wattson was left in disbelief that these two players could ever get into the same lobby. After seeing the tweet, other Apex players decided to reply with their own bad matchmaking experiences. Twitter user Sheepy presented one of the most shocking examples, with the gold player being pitted against a 3-stack Pred squad who all hold top spots on the Ranked ladder. While Respawn warned players that “usual pairings” may pop up while they’re experimenting with the matchmaking, it’s clear the community is losing patience. The Rookie tier was designed to prevent new players from getting disheartened in Ranked, so there’s definitely a problem if they’re going up against the best competitors in the world.

HisWattson announces return to ALGS in Year 4 months after Apex Legends retirement – Dexerto
HisWattson announces return to ALGS in Year 4 months after Apex Legends retirement ALGSJacob “HisWattson” McMillin announced his return to ALGS in Year 4 months after his retirement from competitive Apex Legends, reprising his role in FURIA. HisWattson is undoubtedly one of Apex’s greatest of all time, by his own admission, even if he and FURIA never got to lift an ALGS LAN trophy together before his first retirement. The young gun was signed by FURIA ahead of the ALGS World Championship 2022 last year, in which he made a splash on his first international LAN, getting second place and netting tournament MVP. However, his retirement announcement back in July shocked the community, pivoting towards content creation. Though it appears the competitive itch is back already. After his brief hiatus, he’s back and ready to give it his all once again. FURIA announced their roster for ALGS’ upcoming Year 4, which fans immediately noticed HisWattson in the announcement post, much to the hype of the community. FURIA runs-it-back with HisWattson for ALGS Year 4 He wrote about his brief hiatus in a tweet, saying, “Matured and learned a lot about myself in the [past] few months and am excited to play again.” With HisWattson reprising his role once again in FURIA’s ALGS roster, it also sees a new roster rebuild in Year 4 for the team after a disappointing end to Year 3. Joining HisWattson are Keon “Keon” Berghout and Ryan “ImMadness” Schlieve who were both playing together on the free-agent team Already There. Additionally, ex-DarkZero and Cloud9 coach Jamison “Jxmo” Moore, formerly known as PVPX, will remain as the team’s coach. Year 3 was a heartbreaker for FURIA after their incredible performance in the 2022 ALGS World Championship. They barely failed to qualify for the Split 1 Playoffs after a disappointing showing. In Split 2, they qualified fourth out of NA, however, a 37th-place finish at the Playoffs saw HisWattson contemplating his retirement, which left FURIA to pick up Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith for the NA LCQ for the 2023 ALGS World Championship. In the LCQ, they narrowly missed out, losing to iiTztimmy’s The Dojo and Dudes Night Out for the last spots in the World Championship.

HisWattson announces permanent retirement from pro Apex Legends months after comeback – Dexerto
HisWattson announces permanent retirement from pro Apex Legends months after comeback Joe Brady/EAFURIA’s star ALGS player HisWattson has announced his permanent retirement from pro Apex Legends months after a surprise return to the competitive scene. Jacob “HisWattson” McMillin has announced he is retiring from competitive Apex Legends and stepping down from FURIA’s roster months after his surprise comeback. HisWattson came out of his brief retirement on December 2023 for Year 4 after retiring back in July of the same year. And in the current season with a recently unretired Wattson, they’ve qualified for the Split 1 Playoffs LAN. However, as the LAN’s start date slowly comes into focus, Wattson announced he was leaving the roster and the pro scene once and for all. “Stepping down from the FURIA roster permanently,” Wattson tweeted. “Lots of reasons really, but the simplest is that I don’t enjoy it, and competing in Apex Legends isn’t what’s best for me and the people around me.” Wattson listed down some of the reasons he was stepping down. Financially, he said, it didn’t make sense for him to be competing as he makes substantially more money from being a content creator than from his time as a pro. Amongst his reasons was the mental toll it took to keep playing professionally, his social life being impacted by having to juggle his content and competitive careers, and not being able to pursue health goals because of his schedule. “Everyone is happy with the current scenario. Nobody got snaked. Nobody did anything wrong,” Wattson said. “The entire team will function better. I will be able to more easily pursue my physical, social, mental, and financial goals. This is what’s better for everyone.” Going into the Split 1 Playoffs, FURIA has been allowed to substitute Wattson for Alan Vaxlon” Gonzalez at the LAN in Los Angeles.

HisWattson alleges rank 1 Apex Legends player got boosted by a hacker – Dexerto
HisWattson alleges rank 1 Apex Legends player got boosted by a hacker Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro player HisWattson called out the rank 1 Predator player for being boosted by a hacking player who has already had multiple accounts banned for cheating. Apex Legends gets very competitive at the top of the Predator rankings. Hitting rank 1 is an incredible feat, and holding onto rank 1 is even harder. The players who make it that far up the Pred rankings are often recognized for their skill and perseverance. However, the top-ranked player who goes by the name EHH_ERR in-game is relatively unknown. At the time of writing, he’s at a little over 61,000RP, giving him a 7,000 RP lead over none other than HisWattson at rank 2. HisWattson called out the unknown gamer for queuing with a player that’s hacking in order to get to the top of the leaderboard without receiving a ban for cheating at Apex Legends. HisWattson calls out the rank 1 Apex Predator HisWattson’s callout came with a video, one showing the player queuing with EHH-ERR getting banned in the middle of a ranked game. The rank 1 player in question didn’t hesitate to post his stats alongside complaints that he and his queue partner “can’t even defend ourselves” from accusations. Yet, his stats themselves are fairly revealing. The account has 14k lifetime games with 2k wins, giving this player a fairly impressive win rate across their career. However, Season 14 alone had over 700 wins across 1000 games. That drastic improvement combined with the player he’s queuing with getting banned multiple times has raised some concerns among the best Apex Legends players. The player who’s been banned multiple times has tried to dispute his bans in the past to no avail so far. The rank 1 player, who goes by Tasmah, is actively trying to find ways to prove the innocence of his queue partner despite multiple bans being levied against his accounts. These events follow ImperialHal getting an Apex Legends cheater banned on stream in a high-ranked lobby. The fight against hackers has been a constant one for Apex players trying to hit the top of the ladder. At the time of writing, Respawn has yet to comment on the matter.

HisWattson agrees with ImperialHal that he should be “blacklisted” from Apex Legends competitive – Dexerto
HisWattson agrees with ImperialHal that he should be “blacklisted” from Apex Legends competitive FURIA/Joe Brady (@JOEBRADYPHOTO)Apex Legends star Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin has responded to Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen’s claim that he should be “blacklisted” from competitive teams after leaving FURIA’s roster. As two of the top players in Apex Legends, HisWattson and ImperialHal have constantly gone head to head – both in the battle royale and on social media – with things getting pretty heated at times. Despite still being one of the top ranked players in Apex, HisWattson has decided to step down from competing, leaving the FURIA roster. McMillin stated that he didn’t enjoy the competitive environment and that his heart wasn’t in it during certain matches. “I couldn’t bring the passion, thank god those games weren’t streamed, because I was fucking miserable the entire time,” he said, claiming he even “threw” games with “stupid” decisions because he “wanted to go home” from the event in Raleigh, North Carolina. ImperialHal weighed in on his rival’s decision to move on, claiming that he should be “blacklisted” from future teams. “I like that he’s being transparent but at the same time, the mentality is so bad. So bad. If I was his teammate, no offence to Wattson, but he should be blacklisted,” the TSM star said, laughing as he further suggested blacklisting Wattson. Well, the ex-FURIA star didn’t disagree with his “wild” take. “Hal said I should be permanently banned from competitive Apex. That is wild. Please, just ban me. That way, I won’t even consider going back,” he said. “Honestly, go ahead, then I won’t even be tempted, it won’t even be a possibility.” Timestamp of 0:29 HisWattson added that he feels more at home playing Ranked games of Apex because he has to play every day to protect his top spot. “I have a reason to get out of bed because, yeah, when I played comp, I wouldn’t play in the morning because we were going to play later in the day,” he added. “So, yeah, I would just sit there and do nothing.”

Hints & theories suggest Forge is still alive in Apex Legends Season 4 – Dexerto
Hints & theories suggest Forge is still alive in Apex Legends Season 4 Respawn EntertainmentAfter a bizarre trailer saw the mysterious Revenant kill Forge ahead of Apex Legends Season 4, fans were convinced they had seen the last of the brute. But, not all fans, as some eagle-eyed observers believe there’s a chance Forge is still alive. Respawn first announced Forge as the new legend back on January 23, which came as a surprise to many, who had believed Revenant would be the next character in the Apex Games. Then, fans theorized that Revenant was plotting an attack on Forge, and this turned out to be exactly true. During a broadcast on Outlands TV, the mysterious evil character stabbed Forge in the back, a shocking twist to be sure. It looked as if Forge’s time as an Apex Legend was over before it started, with Revenant now sure to take his spot. However, there are some clues that suggest this might not totally be the case. First spotted by Reddit user u/ChainsawSwan, it’s possible that there is another twist in the story yet. In Forge’s description, it is mentioned that he is “often imitated”, and that his character on the TV show had a scar across his left eyebrow. But, that scar is not visible on his character in the other teasers. This theory suggests that there was perhaps a body-double on the show, and that the real Forge is still alive and well – and Revenant has no idea. Another fan followed on from this find, and theorizes what will happen next, if Forge really is still alive. “Revenant kills Forge, [Respawn] add Revenant, but actually it turns out Revenant killed Forge’s stunt double,” the theory goes. “Forge trains in secret on Kings Canyon for the first half of the season, then when the maps change, Forge makes a surprise return to get revenge on Revenant thus releasing two characters in one season.” Respawn have already confirmed that there will be two ‘splits’ in Season 4, with the second split of Ranked play bringing back Kings Canyon, starting on March 24. If it was a body-double that Revenant killed, then the second split would be the perfect time for the real Forge to come back and get revenge. After all, Respawn have created a whole backstory and abilities (which were already leaked) for Forge, so it’s unlikely they want to axe him completely. Possibly, this second split will bring more than just Kings Canyon though, and bring a new legend in Forge too. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Hilarious video sums up the state of Apex Legends Season 3 – Dexerto
Hilarious video sums up the state of Apex Legends Season 3 A hilarious fan-made video has perfectly captured the issues of Apex Legends’ third season, as Respawn Entertainment continue to address a variety of complaints about the game. Respawn’s battle royale set in the Titanfall universe is quickly approaching a year old, but there are still old issues rearing their heads. Since its February release, fans have commented on the number of bugs in the game, as well as complaints about ‘SBMM’ (skill-based matchmaking). A glance at Apex Legends’ dedicated Trello board reflects the number of bugs Respawn are currently investigating. However, there is a number that they are yet to address, and one disgruntled fan funnelled their frustrations into a single video. The video was uploaded to Reddit on December 27 by u/Actually12Monkeys. It is essentially a two-minute montage of issues that are currently affecting Apex players, played over a warped rendition of ‘The Final Countdown’. Read More: Bizarre bug spawns endless R-99s in matches – Fans will recognize a number of the issues that feature in the video. Among others, the Reddit user takes aim at the R-99’s incredible muzzle flash, the game’s inconsistent hit-detection and occasions where the game randomly stops players from healing. Other issues featured include mismatched users as a result of skill-based matchmaking and rampant cheating; the latter of which has been an issue since the game’s initial release. The post quickly garnered a lot of traction, as fans admired the creativity on display. Upvoting the video will also amplify the calls for more to be done on Respawn’s behalf. While there’s no guarantee that the video will speed up fixes, fans welcomed the chance to view the game’s frustrating aspects in a more humorous light. There’s still over a month left before Season 4 launches on February 4 (one year on from release), and Respawn will no doubt be hard at work to get the game ship-shape in time for what is expected to be the biggest new season yet.

Hilarious secret Octane “finisher” discovered in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Hilarious secret Octane “finisher” discovered in Apex Legends Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer sAoEuu9K]The Apex Legends player base has made a surprising discovery: there’s a (slight) possibility that Octane can quickly finish downed enemies off by throwing his Launch Pad on top of them. Downing enemies is half the battle in Apex Legends, with opposing teams and golden knockdown shields driving the ever-present potential that someone can return from being knocked to exact their revenge upon you. So, finishing off fallen foes is crucial and players are understandably committed to doing so (aside from just for the simple pleasure of thirsting and adding to your stats). As such, the Apex player base is always looking for the simplest ways to secure their eliminations and turn a potential enemy into a respawn banner. For much of the game’s lifespan, there have been only two means of finishing off downed opponents: damaging them (with your choice of weapon, melee, or grenade) or executing a cinematic finisher. Remember: You don’t take damage if someone is doing a finisher on you! Use this in the final circle to your advantage in Apex Legends: https://t.co/rVFtIoQWIi (Clip via u/Sjborda) pic.twitter.com/Jjk7aWjbnB — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) August 13, 2020 But sometimes you’re either not close enough to melee, don’t want to waste ammunition, or simply don’t trust the time (and vulnerability) of performing a finisher. As seen in the preceding clip, you are incredibly susceptible to damage in the act of execution so maybe it’s not the optimal strategy. Instead, a new third opportunity seems to have arisen for the Stim-fueled Octane mains out there, as proponents of the speedy Legend have discovered that he, fittingly, might possess a quick way to turn pesky downs into confirmed kills. As shown in a clip from ‘MC4Veteran’ on Reddit, Octane tosses his jump pad on top of a downed enemy with them dying immediately upon impact. Now, it’s entirely possible that this is a consequence of the downed enemy’s teammate being killed at precisely the exact moment of Octane’s bouncy pad making contact, but more research is required to be certain. With any proper scientific study, a large sample size is required to be certain of anything. In this case, the hypothesis is that jump pads can finish players off and the supporting evidence is this ridiculous clip and a history of bugged Apex trampolines killing friends and foes alike (as numerous Reddit commenters have alluded to). Sure, it’s possible that the bad guy’s friend died in a perfectly coincidental time, but how much more likely would that be? Regardless, more research needs to be conducted because Octane mains deserve to know just how powerful they truly may or may not be.

Hilarious Firing Range glitch lets you fly infinitely in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Hilarious Firing Range glitch lets you fly infinitely in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentAn incredibly fun Apex Legends glitch has been discovered in the Firing Range that allows any character to fly infinitely and take to the skies. In Apex Legends, there’s only one character on the roster that can take to the skies at will and that’s Valkyrie, the Winged Avenger. While her teammates can make use of her Skyward Dive Ultimate or head to the nearest balloon tower, no one in the Outlands is equipped with the ability to float in the air indefinitely, as even Valkyrie’s jetpacks run out of power. Well, that was until a new glitch was discovered in the Firing Range that allows any Legend to fly infinitely and even control the direction they’re traveling. It’s worth noting that this bug cannot be abused in public matches and luckily, it’s extremely easy to activate. How to activate infinite flight glitch in Firing Range Discovered by Apex Legends YouTuber Dirty Skirty and presented by Skeptation, the bug gives anyone on the roster the ability to fly infinitely in the Firing Range. Unfortunately, this isn’t possible on controller, so you’ll have to be using MnK to test this out. The glitch gives you the chance to explore the practice map from every angle and even pull off some impressive trick shots on the dummies. If you’re looking to activate infinite flight, simply follow the steps below: Head into the Firing Range. – Change to Octane and place down a Launch Pad. – Switch to Valkyrie from the character select screen. – Use Valkyrie’s jetpack to fly upwards. – While in mid-air, switch legends while holding down the spacebar key. – Now float down to the Launch Pad and you’ll be thrust into the air and able to fly. – As long as you continue to hold down the spacebar, you’ll float infinitely. – While you can switch to any Legend after flying up as Valkyrie, we recommend using Revenant as holding his Tactical will allow you to travel faster through the air. If you’re looking for a visual demonstration, check Skeptation’s video below where they walk through the whole process. As this glitch is only usable in the Firing Range and doesn’t give players an unfair advantage, it’s unlikely this will be get patched out by Respawn. So, if you’ve always wanted to take to the skies as Caustic, Fuse, Revenant, or any other character on the roster, it’s now possible thanks to an incredibly fun glitch.

Hilarious Apex Legends skin idea turns Pathfinder into a cactus cowboy – Dexerto
Hilarious Apex Legends skin idea turns Pathfinder into a cactus cowboy Respawn Entertainment / Pexels, @AdriannaA trusty robot, Pathfinder is an Apex Legends “Forward Scout,” composed entirely of metal and inorganic materials. But the Respawn Entertainment game’s fans have vivid imaginations and, as far as a Pathfinder revision goes, their hearts bleed green. Pathfinder is most popularly associated with characters like Spider-Man, given the two’s similarities as mobile, swinging vigilantes. Spider-Man has his web, Pathfinder has his grapple. Spider-Man has his Mary Jane, Pathfinder has his…trusted Wraith “TTV” teammate? A grappling robot from the future, most of dear Pathfinder’s skin designs are shiny and metal or sometimes dulled, matte and metal. But one thing remains consistent about every current appearance for him in the game: he is made of metal (and plastic, once). Reddit’s ‘MoberRPG’ wasn’t quite satisfied with that and decided to go in a different direction. Forgetting the future, the imaginative fan decided to take things in a different direction — a Western direction. A direct juxtaposition against future space robot, MoberRPG’s heart led them toward old-school “Americana” vibes. They didn’t want to sacrifice metallic components entirely, but still prepared the legend for a very different frontier. Read more: Apex Legends bug sinks players under Olympus – Strapping on some spurred cowboy boots, a 10-gallon hat, and a sweet little bandolier, this Pathfinder concept is filled with unmatched cowboy energy. But it gets some surrealist art vibes, too, by replacing Pathfinder’s upper limbs with…cactus arms. In one drawing, the “Forward Scout” becomes a veggie gunslinger. From the needly cacti to the mustachioed face upon his breastplate, this design is full of character. And, while it feels like a very sharp contrast from a typical robot’s vibes, there are actually some interesting similarities. For one, although cowboys do not grapple around the world like Spider-Man, they do use a lasso. Practically every Apex Legends fan has seen their fair share of highlights in which Pathfinder uses his grappling hook to bring someone toward their death, so this is a real point of commonality. And then, on a more general level, both cacti and cowboys are prepared for self-defense. That makes them pretty similar to Pathfinder, who, as a battle royale contestant, always has to be at the ready. Read more: Revenant won’t be buffed in Season 8 – In sum, this may be a particularly ambitious design concept, but community feedback proves there’s something there. If fans enjoy this aesthetic, then maybe there’s a chance Respawn will consider Western themes for a future event or skin release.

Hilarious Apex Legends infinite grapple glitch makes Pathfinder dizzy – Dexerto
Hilarious Apex Legends infinite grapple glitch makes Pathfinder dizzy Respawn EntertainmentPathfinder might be one of the most popular Legends in the Apex Games, but this hilariously weird glitch leaves him a little worse for wear. Behind only Wraith, Pathfinder has topped popularity lists for as long as Apex Legends has been around. His grapple and ziplines make for great rotation, able to give you and your teammates huge advantages when getting into and out of gunfights, especially when the storm is closing in and your options seem to be running low. That said, one player has now discovered that his grapple can be used in a rather more unique way, and it makes for ridiculously funny viewing. If you’re looking to entertain your teammates during a quiet game, pull this one out and you’ll have them mind blown — and it looks like it could have some practical uses too, basically giving Pathy infinite grapple. As you can see in the clip below, it’s a bit of a weird one, as ZappierBuzz4 grapples onto a pole on the train and proceeds to just spin around it continuously, with his grapple never actually ending. The Pathfinder keeps swinging around the pole, almost floating in mid-air around it, as his opponents attempt, with no luck, to eliminate him from the match, with their bullets flying past him and doing nothing but making noise. It’s not actually clear why exactly this works how it did. It likely has something to do with the fact that the Pathfinder keeps moving in the air and doesn’t touch the ground — and, when he finally does, the grapple ends, which is the most reasonable explanation for this. Whether there’s actually any practical use for this remains to be seen. As you can see, he manages to dodge all enemy gunfire, so it definitely has some use, but it’s not often you’ll find yourself in a position where this is a reasonable option. Instead, you’ll probably just end up getting dizzy as the screen spins endlessly, so it could actually harm your game more than helping it. But that doesn’t make it any less funny.

Hilarious Apex Legends fail shows how doors can actually kill you – Dexerto
Hilarious Apex Legends fail shows how doors can actually kill you Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends will test your mettle against players with sharp aim and powerful loadouts, but be sure not to forget about doors, as it turns out they can also lead to your downfall in hilarious fashion. Doors in Apex Legends are typically an afterthought — an aspect of moment to moment gameplay in the popular battle royale that often goes unnoticed and becomes somewhat of an automatic process. However, not paying any mind to the interactive doors in Respawn’s shooter can actually result in your death, as players have been finding out the hard way. While you’re dodging bullets and scrounging for loot, it’s worth keeping a cautious eye on doors nearby. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time could lead to a foolish and easily avoidable death. Halfway through a March 1 match for example, Reddit user ‘borisalien’ was caught off-guard after they amusingly took down an enemy Wraith without firing a single bullet or even throwing a punch. Simply sliding and opening a door in one swift motion was enough to knock down the opposing player the moment that they came out of their ‘Into The Void’ ability. “Did I just…what happened there?” They amusingly questioned while beginning to loot the fresh corpse. There’s no telling just how much health the enemy had left when they came out of the void, however, the split-second timing of the door swing resulted in a perfect kill. Wraith seemingly glitched inside of the door the moment that the ability wore off. While the killfeed didn’t credit the player for opening said door, the enemy was “crushed” nonetheless and easy loot was ripe for the picking shortly after. In order to avoid similar embarrassment moving forward, be sure to keep your wits about you when playing as Wraith. Doors should become your most feared opponent while in the void as you never know when the hilarious interaction might put an early end to your next run.

Hilarious Apex Legends exploit lets players emote while moving around the map – Dexerto
Hilarious Apex Legends exploit lets players emote while moving around the map Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Season 9, officially called Legacy, introduced the battle royale’s first set of ground emotes, and some players have already found a clever way to fly around the game’s various maps while using these gestures. Season 9 added a heap of new content to Apex Legends, including the game’s first ground emotes. While players could already express themselves with skydive emotes during the initial jump into the arena, they can finally do so with their feet planted firmly on the ground. Prior to the launch of Legacy, Respawn revealed their plans to stop the use of emotes for three peaking (using the third-person view provided by emotes to gain a tactical advantage), but it seems players have found an even better and funnier way to use the emotes for an unintended purpose. While experimenting with the ground emotes in Apex Legends’ firing range, some clever players discovered that with a bit of effort and perfect timing, you can force your character into their emote animation while moving around the map, resulting in some truly hilarious shenanigans. One Apex Legends player shared a hysterical clip on Reddit where they and their teammates found a way to exploit the game’s new ground emotes for an extremely funny (and completely harmless) acrobatics extravaganza. In the clip, a player using Octane activated one of his emotes while sprinting forward, and instead of stopping and emoting in place, the character threw down his jump pad and proceeded to show off some gymnastics moves while the jump pad slid seamlessly forward. “My friends and I found out in [the firing range] that if you sprint forward, jump, and hold space, you can emote while moving. We decided to test our luck in trios,” the player shared, explaining how they and their teammates were able to pull off the incredible stunt. It doesn’t appear the exploit is limited to a certain character either. The player’s teammates were able to pull off similar feats as well — the Bangalore hopped around the map doing handstands, while the Mirage bounced around dancing without a care in the world. Unfortunately, it seems the exploit is limited to PC only. For players on Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch, it doesn’t seem possible to pull off the combination of button inputs required to make use of the exploit (sprint, jump, hold jump, select an emote). The post on Reddit was met with huge support from the community. “This should never be removed,” one player replied, and the poster strongly agreed: “Please don’t fix this Respawn!” While it seems unlikely that Respawn will leave this exploit untouched since it deviates from intended functionality so greatly, perhaps players might see an “Emote Only” LTM in a future event, where all players can take full advantage of the ground emotes’ unintended side effect.

Hilarious Apex Legends bug turns characters into “frogs” when downed – Dexerto
Hilarious Apex Legends bug turns characters into “frogs” when downed Respawn EntertainmentA new Apex Legends bug that’s been popping up allows characters to continue moving quickly and even jump after they get downed, and while it might not be extremely useful, it’s completely hilarious. Normally, being downed in Apex means crawling around slowly and hiding behind your Knockdown Shield while you hope for a teammate to come over and pick you up. However, a new bug has surfaced that lets you move and hop around just fine while knocked. One instance shows Lifeline, despite being downed, still able to move and even jump around like a frog as her teammate follows behind. When Lifelined jump up, the animation freezes the model for a second, making her look more like Mario and Luigi’s cousin or something of that sort, rather than an Apex Legends character. But it’s not just Lifeline that can be affected by the glitch. In the comments, users reported they had seen similar bugs happen with Wraith and even Gibraltar, who, appropriately enough, was able to continue using his Knockdown Shield while zooming around as well. Even though you are able to move around quicker and jump, you’re still downed and thus don’t have access to weapons or abilities. So, while entertaining, it’s probably still worth having your teammates pull you up (unless they’re too busy giggling at the frog-like animation). But, that’s not to say it’s completely useless. If you do get downed away from your teammates, you could use the additional mobility to hide in a spot an enemy might not be expecting, like a small corner or crevice away from where you were initially attacked. As for how to avoid this glitch, there’s really no foolproof way other than avoiding getting knocked completely, which is the ultimate goal anyway. Since that’s a tall order for most players, just making sure your squad is sticking together and watching each other’s backs and that should keep this glitch limited to being just a hilarious little distraction when it does happen.

Hilarious Apex Legends bug lets Pathfinder fly like a boomerang – Dexerto
Hilarious Apex Legends bug lets Pathfinder fly like a boomerang Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have seen some crazy bugs and tricks since the game’s February 2019 release, but this one takes the cake. Pathfinder can now break the Olympus height limit. Flying glitches have been something of a trend since Season 7 began, with a previous exploit allowing Crypto’s drone and Rampart’s minigun to come together to make an insane floating turret. That was quickly patched, but it remains to be seen if the latest flying stunt will be. Those who main Pathfinder regularly will know Marvin automaton is always allowed to fly around on its zipline, moving from place to place in speedy fashion. Though, with the right tools in your team, you can take those movement capabilities to a whole new level. Pathfinder flying bug in Apex Legends If you’re looking to reach heights you never have in Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale, this is a clip for you. As seen on the Apex Legends subreddit, posted by user Cloaked_Catastrophe, with just a few simple steps you can have Pathfinder floating around like a boomerang. All you need is his Grapple Hook, an Octane Jump Pad, and a gas canister from Caustic. By sticking to the canister with the hook and diving upwards with the pad, Pathfinder will soon disappear into the sky! Not only was this post given a big thumbs up by over 300 players, but one of those was Apex dev MRVN. They said: “Somewhere in the universe, an environment artist just cried out in pain.” Whether or not this will be addressed in a future patch remains to be seen. Many more annoying bugs than this one have stood the test of time in the battle royale, but there’s no way we can safely say Pathfinder will be spinning in the air until Season 8. It’s not yet been added to the Apex Legends tracker on Trello – that, we know.

Hilarious Apex Legends bug giving characters wrong abilities returns – Dexerto
Hilarious Apex Legends bug giving characters wrong abilities returns Respawn EntertainmentA bizarre bug has returned to Apex Legends that gives characters the wrong abilities, despite having a completely different model in-game. The first thing any Apex Legends player does after queueing up for a match is choose their character in the Legend select screen. While normally this process goes smoothly, some of the community have been experiencing some strange issues once they land from the dropship and test out their abilities in Season 15. Despite locking in their chosen character, a bug is causing them to have another legend’s Tactical and Ultimate. While this is hilarious in pubs, it can be extremely frustrating in Ranked, especially considering a lot of players thought this longstanding glitch had been fixed. Infamous wrong ability bug returns to Apex Legends After jumping into a Ranked match and locking in Loba, Reddit user gwefysmefys quickly realized that they had Wraith’s abilities. Although their character model was still Loba in-game, the Translocating Theif had access to Wraith’s invulnerability and her portal. While this bug is rare, it’s been a long-standing issue in Apex since 2019, and a lot of players assumed the glitch had been fixed. This is clearly not the case, and while it doesn’t provide any meaningful advantages or drawbacks, it can be frustrating not being able to use the abilities you chose. As this bug has been a problem in Apex for such a long time, it’s safe to assume Respawn has struggled to find a solution. However, as it doesn’t occur very often, it’s unlikely to affect you in your matches. Either way, if you see a Loba using Wraith’s abilities or a Caustic throwing down a Bangalore smoke, at least won’t be left speechless and wondering what’s going on.

Hilarious Apex Legends bug completely ruins Octane’s Launch Pad – Dexerto
Hilarious Apex Legends bug completely ruins Octane’s Launch Pad Respawn EntertainmentOctane’s Launch Pad is one of the most powerful abilities in Apex Legends, but a specific tree on World’s Edge has proven to be the Ultimate counter. While not dealing any damage or revealing the specific location of enemy players, Octane’s Ultimate has always been one of the strongest abilities in Apex Legends. With a relatively low cooldown and unmatched mobility, the Launch Pad allows an entire squad to push aggressively in a matter of seconds. Not only that, there are very few audio cues when Octane’s Ultimate has been used, so it’s hard to predict when an entire squad is dropping onto your position. Despite this, a specific tree on World’s Edge has proven itself to be a complete counter to the Launch Pad, even if the chances of it happening again are one in a million. World’s Edge tree completely counters Octane’s Ultimate While looting near the Lava City POI on World’s Edge, Reddit user IntelligentImbicle realized they’d fallen behind their teammates and wanted to catch up. As they were playing Octane, they decided to pull out their Launch Pad and throw it forward ready to propel themselves through the air. Unfortunately, this didn’t exactly go to plan as a nearby shrub-sized tree had other ideas and decided to latch onto their Ultimate. IntelligentImbicle’s Launch Pad was then impossible to use as it was sat on the top of the tree, out of reach from anyone besides a Valkyrie. Although this glitch is extremely rare and is unlikely to affect anyone ever again in this spot, there’s no denying it’s absolutely hilarious. It also acts as a warning for Octane mains when throwing their Ultimate, as there’s always a chance the landing location doesn’t exactly go to plan. So, if you’re on World’s Edge, be on the lookout for this shrub, as it could stop you in your tracks while you’re running through Lava City.

Highly requested ‘Reconnect’ feature coming in Apex Legends Season 5 – Dexerto
Highly requested ‘Reconnect’ feature coming in Apex Legends Season 5 Respawn EntertainmentAlmost everyone has experienced the pain of being kicked off your game of choice while battling it out online, and now Respawn is finally giving Apex Legends players a chance to reconnect if they’re forced out of a game. Apex currently doesn’t give players the option to reconnect after being knocked off, as most other online games do, like Overwatch and Valorant, for example. As a result, this seemingly-simple feature has become one of players’ most-requested additions since the game released, and now the developers have confirmed it’s on the way. According to a blog post put out by one of the Apex Legends devs, this ‘Reconnect’ feature will be introduced in Season 5. The feature, as the name implies, will allow players to reconnect to a game after being kicked out for an internet issue that’s not their fault, if the match is still in progress. “We’re happy to announce that reconnect is coming in Season 5,” the dev said. “If you get disconnected due to inclement weather, a quick brownout, or a crash in-game – you can now just restart and if the session is still ongoing you will reload right back into the session.” As some players pointed out though, the option to reconnect to a battle royale game like Apex could end up being a bit of a double-edged sword. Say, for example, you disconnect while your squad is rotating on the edge of the circle, and when you get back in, you’re deep in the storm with no hope or chance of living. Another problem could be when you’re playing with random teammates, they could just decide to cut their losses and quit the game after seeing you disconnect, leaving you to load back in with a smaller squad, or none at all. I can’t wait to have my game crash and when I load back in I’m in the middle of storm — Shark boi 🦈 (@John_thegr8) April 24, 2020 There are no details yet about whether this reconnect feature will only be available in Ranked play or in all of the other modes as well, but Respawn promised more details in the upcoming Season 5 patch notes, so keep an eye out for those whenever they arrive. As for when the new season is expected to launch, the date was originally set to May 5, but the developers announced on April 24 that it had been pushed back a week, with the new start date set for Tuesday, May 12.

Highlights and final placements from DLive Apex Legends tournament – ft. Cloud9, Team Liquid and more – Dexerto
Highlights and final placements from DLive Apex Legends tournament – ft. Cloud9, Team Liquid and more The dust has settled on the grand finals of the $10,000 DLive Apex Legends tournament, and a winner has been decided, after hours of enthralling matches in the biggest Apex competition yet. With over 200 teams competing, the DLive tournament was the first ‘open’ tournament for Apex Legends, where players were not required to be big name streamers to get in. 10 teams made it through to the finals after a gruelling qualifier, another five by popular vote, and another four by invitation, with the $10,000 prize pool to be split between the highest placing squads. Points were awarded to teams for both kills and match wins, with each kill worth a single point, and an extra 10 points for each game won. There was even some professional level players involved, with Cloud9 and Team Liquid both represented. Check out the highlights and best plays from the tournament, which was streamed live on the DLive platform. But, in the end it was the little know squad of ‘Impulse’ that came out on top, featuring pkmk, 9impulse and AzeeWasTaken, who netted the $4,500 first place prize. It was a dominant run all the way through for Impulse, as they also took the top spot in the qualifying round, before bettering their own performance in the finals.

High-rank Apex Legends players have a new favorite Legend in Season 16 – Dexerto
High-rank Apex Legends players have a new favorite Legend in Season 16 Respawn EntertainmentTop-tier Apex Legends players in Predator are using one character significantly more than any other and it may be worth following in their footsteps. Picking a character to use in Apex Legends can be extremely difficult as all 23 Legends have their own strengths and weaknesses. A lot of the time, choosing a main will come down to personal preference but it’s worth taking into account a legend’s place in the meta and their popularity if you’re looking to maximize your chances for victory. While the overall pick rate across the whole community is useful, sometimes it’s better to focus on what the best competitors in the world are using. Well, based on the stats, one Legend is being picked significantly more than any other by Predator players in Season 16 and may be the best option for climbing in Ranked. Pathfinder is hugely popular with Predator Apex players When it comes to overall pick rates across the whole community, Wraith is number one with an impressive 11.3% in Season 16 according to Apex Status. However, when you refine the stats down to Predator and Master players, Pathfinder stands tall above the rest with an incredible 19.3%. The Forward Scout’s popularity has been propelled by huge buffs in Revelery to his zipline, which is now twice as long and allows you to travel at a significantly faster speed. This makes it easy for Pathfinder to perform long rotations, similar to a Valkyrie Ultimate, especially if you use the Ultimate in conjunction with a balloon. So, if you’re an aggressive Apex player who loves taking gunfights and focusing on their positioning in the late game, Pathfinder is definitely the Legend for you. His grapple takes a lot of practice to master but can be deadly in gunfights for catching foes off-guard and pulling off flanks. While he may not sit at the top in overall pick rates, he’s dominant in Predator and if the best players are using him, you probably should be as well.

High IQ Apex Legends play makes Caustic Gas Traps even deadlier – Dexerto
High IQ Apex Legends play makes Caustic Gas Traps even deadlier Respawn EntertainmentOne Redditor has shared a genius Apex Legends trick, which takes Caustic’s Nox Gas Traps to the next level as the ultimate ambush tool against advancing enemies. When it comes to Apex Legends’ diverse pool of characters, Caustic has been pushed towards the lower tiers. Not necessarily worthless or undesirable, he is certainly not as strong as some of the most picked Legends – like Wraith or Pathfinder. The Toxic Trapper’s entire skillset revolves around his Nox Gas concoction, but it’s more frustrating to opponents, rather than game-ending. However, one dedicated Caustic player has shared a high IQ play, that instantly makes his Tactical Ability more viable, and powerful. The Nox Gas Traps can often be seen littering corridors and encouraging diversions, but Redditor ‘EverecOlgierd‘ shared a genius placement for them – on top of doorways. Veteran Apex players will know that dropping items on top of open doorways causes the items to bind to them. This is actually a neat trick to destroy high-value items that your team does not want. Leaving a Nox Gas Trap on top of a door has the same effect, and means that you can close the door with the trap in place directly above it. This, as you may expect, means any player running through the doorway will set off the trap and be doused in the toxic gas. What makes this even more powerful is that, from the opposite side of the door to where the trap was placed, there is no indication a Gas Trap has been placed, meaning enemies will not suspect they are about to run into an ambush. Smart positioning around these doors will also benefit players, as weakened enemies will be especially easy to finish off. The traps can also be used to give warnings of enemy approaches. It’s one of the smarter plays we’ve seen and adds another layer of power to Caustic’s Nox Gas Traps.

Hidden Apex Legends World’s Edge ‘rat spot’ with Loba is a problem – Dexerto
Hidden Apex Legends World’s Edge ‘rat spot’ with Loba is a problem Respawn/EAApex Legends players have uncovered a spot on World’s Edge that is pretty broken and could give you free wins if the circle rotates that way. Ever since Apex Legends first launched over two years ago, players have been finding sneaky ways to pick up wins and dominate their opponents. There have been plenty of ‘rat spots’ – hard-to-reach areas that only certain legends can get to thanks to their abilities – found on the battle royale’s maps, as well as clearly out of the map locations too. Some of these spots can be pretty useless and are just a good way of showing where Respawn hasn’t quite finished clipping or designing certain areas. Yet, some of them can give you wins. Now, players have found that there is a bit of a broken spot in the middle of World’s Edge where you can use a Pathfinder zipline or Loba bracelet to access it. As Apex Legends YouTuber Bottlecap shows, this spot is right where the lava currently cracks the map in two between Harvester and Fragment. You can hop down to it and crawl quite a ways through before things get weird and you experience visual glitches. In terms of it being a spot that could affect every game, it’s not quite that broken. However, if the final circle is nearby, you could hide in there without anyone noticing. Plus, if you need to escape, you can always jump onto the lava and be teleported upwards. Upon seeing the spot, some players called on Respawn to tidy it up and make sure it can’t be abused. Though, leakers have suggested that World’s Edge is going to undergo some map changes anyway. It remains to be seen if these supposed map changes will make this spot inaccessible, though. But for now, it’s something to watch out for.

Hidden Apex Legends mechanic makes Fuse’s Ultimate a lot more accurate – Dexerto
Hidden Apex Legends mechanic makes Fuse’s Ultimate a lot more accurate Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have discovered a feature that didn’t get much fanfare at all when the newest legend Fuse was first released, but it makes his ultimate way more accurate. The explosive-happy Australian is the 16th Legend to join the ranks of Apex, and his ultimate ability “The Motherlode” launches a flurry of projectiles that produce a circle of flame around a certain target. It’s proven to be a powerful and frustrating ability to deal with already — just ask any player who’s been on the receiving end of one — but most players don’t seem to be aware there is a way to be even more accurate when using Fuse’s ult. Normally you aim the Motherlode in the usual way, like you would Gibraltar or Bangalore’s ultimates: with an indicator showing where the ability will land and where the area of effect will be. Fuse’s ultimate has a pretty long range though, which can make it tough to see exactly what you’re aiming at if the target is too far away unless you use a “hidden” mechanic that most player’s don’t seem to be aware of that allows you to zoom the ability in. It’s literally as simple as just aiming down the sights when you have The Motherlode launcher using the same buttons you would to aim down the rails on any other gun, and you instantly get a zoom that’s just as good (or better) as any optical zoom scope. Not only does it allow you to pinpoint the area of the map you want to bathe in fire, but it also comes in handy as a fantastic scouting tool that lets you peek ahead and potentially see any ambushes lying in wait. You might feel a little silly for not knowing about this mechanic before now, but that’s alright, because Respawn didn’t really put any hints in-game for us. Once you realize how easy and straight-up useful this little-known mechanic really is, though, you can start making other players feel like fools for thinking they could take your Fuse skills on in a fight.

Hidden ability in Apex Legends lets you reload without taking damage – Dexerto
Hidden ability in Apex Legends lets you reload without taking damage A secret technique involving the Wraith has been found in Apex Legends Season 3, and it could prove to be quite the useful trick if performed at the correct time. Wraith quickly became one of the most-used Legends when Apex Legends first released back in February, and the character has remained a very popular choice for both casual and competitive players. The three abilities work synchronously with each other, giving players both an avenue to escape if necessary while also the room to make some spectacular plays. As a result of the abilities, there’s actually a hidden technique with the Wraith that allows players to reload their weapon while in the Void, which means they can reload their gun without risking getting shot. This trick has flown pretty much under the radar for the past few months until it was brought to everyone’s attention by Reddit user ‘Xayzac.’ In the caption of the post, the user suggests that the trick isn’t actually useful, but most of the people in the comments section think otherwise. This video contains two clips for the two ways that this technique can be performed. The first option, dubbed ‘End of Portal Method,’ requires the following steps: Start reloading your weapon. – Immediately activate the Dimensional Rift ultimate ability and wait until the Rift Energy indicator gets as close to zero as possible without hitting it. – Right before the Rift Energy hits zero, activate the Into the Void tactical ability. This will begin reloading your weapon while you’re under the protection of the Void. – The second option is being called ‘Start of the Portal’ method, and it involves completing these steps: Start reloading your weapon. – Immediately activate the Dimensional Rift ultimate ability. – Before Wraith “locks her arm to place the portal” also activate the Into the Void tactical ability, which will initiate the reload while you’re in the Void and protected from gunfire. – This second method may actually be better than the first, since you won’t actually lose your ultimate ability if you don’t move at all while doing this process, according to the Reddit user. Needless to say, this can actually be a very useful technique if performed at the right time. Reloading during gunfights often comes down to a balancing act, since its important to time reloads right so you won’t get eliminated while doing so. With this trick, you can protect yourself from incoming shots while also refilling your weapon with a fresh new set of rounds, especially if it means you don’t even have to waste your ultimate ability with that second method.

Heroic Apex Legends Ranked endgame strategy goes viral on TikTok – Dexerto
Heroic Apex Legends Ranked endgame strategy goes viral on TikTok Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Ranked mode is not for everybody, pushing players to their limits – and nothing exemplifies that more than this teammate who went viral on TikTok after pulling out all the stops. Grinding Ranked has become quite the phenomenon since Season 10 started in the Apex Games, with big streamers like Dr Disrespect, NICKMERCS, and others eyeing up Apex Predator status. The more wins you get and the better your team becomes, the faster you progress through the rank system in-game, and one player has found the ultimate strategy. If you’ve ever found yourself in a tough spot during the endgame, this dude might have the answer. Apex Legends TikTok strategy goes viral In an Apex Legends TikTok posted this August, user ‘jinxhq’ basically becomes an instant hero in his circles. The clip, which has gone on to rack up an insane 290,000 likes and 1.5 million views, shows the player taking the ultimate risk at the end of a match. Read More: Apex Legends Tier List – Best Legends ranked – He drops down all of his healing items – from syringes to shields – before saying: “Guys, this is going to be a sudden death…” The ring was quickly closing in on the trio, but they had the high ground. I will try to fight this and you guys will have to heal, OK?” If the TikTok video doesn’t load below, click here. The ultimate sacrifice What happens next secured Jinx legendary status, as he leapt down to where the enemy team was and starting popping shots with his Flatine. Soon after, the enemy squad approached him and teamed up to knock him down. The distraction might have been a temporary thing, but his opponents all took their eyes off the ball thinking it was an ambush. Seconds later, the ring continued to close, wiping out Jinx (who basically become a sacrifice), and the remaining Apex Legends team. Read More: Apex Legends Season 10 review – Those healing items came in handy for his teammates as well, who stood there withstanding as much pressure from the closing circle as possible, before it claimed them victory by wiping out the squad. Everybody could do with a teammate like Jinx, because this is one of the most heroic Apex Legends Ranked win we’ve ever seen.

Here’s why Wraith’s Marble Goddess skin isn’t broken in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Here’s why Wraith’s Marble Goddess skin isn’t broken in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has proven that Wraith’s Marble Goddess Skin isn’t actually broken anymore, following complaints about her “broken hitbox” while wearing the cosmetic item. Wraith is without question the most popular legend in the Apex Games. Her speed, handy tactical ability, and game-changing Ultimate make her perfect for players wanting to quickly get in or out of the action. As such, many find themselves getting frustrated with the character, and the new problematic skin only served to exacerbate any complaints made about the legend. To be fair to those complaining, at first, the skin really was broken, with Wraith becoming immune to headshots with the skin selected but also having a ridiculously large hitbox, making her an easy target for enemies. Now, though, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Read More: What we know about Apex Legends crossplay – As evidenced in a video below from The Gaming Merchant, Respawn have given the Marble Goddess skin a little update and made it much more fair on both user and enemy. You can see that while you can no longer hit Wraith by shooting around her body, you are able to do damage if you hit any part of her actual body and, more importantly, headshot damage works exactly as intended. It seems as though Wraith’s Marble Goddess skin is now working exactly as it should be, doing damage if you hit any part of Wraith’s actual body during a gunfight. Unfortunately, this does mean you now have no more excuses for losing your one-on-one battles. If you’re still looking for fresh Apex Legends content though, keep an eye out on the Limited Time Modes (LTMs) coming to the game – according to a recent leak, the Shadowfall LTM might be returning, as well as a new one called Campfire.

Here’s why Gibraltar is perfect for beating hackers in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Here’s why Gibraltar is perfect for beating hackers in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentA blatant Apex Legends hacker was on their way to (unfairly) wiping out the entire lobby, but was completely outplayed by someone playing with often underrated Gibraltar legend. Apex Legends has exploded in popularity in the battle royale genre, as Respawn Entertainment’s game quickly became one of the fan-favorites, with their unique take on having a range of playable heroes or ‘legends’ for the players to choose from. Gibraltar is often regarded as one of the weaker legends to use in-game due to his large size and limited abilities, compared to other legends such as popular choices in Bloodhound and Wraith. However, when dealing with hackers, Gibraltar may in fact be the best pick. On April 20, Twitch streamer RageMonkeyTV was spectating someone who he suspected of cheating after his squad was wiped in-game, and his suspicions were quickly vindicated, as the player was blatantly using some sort of aim hacks. After watching him rack up 11 kills with “all headshots” and make his way to the final two squads in the match, it seemed as if the hacker was going to finish the game with a victory. However, RageMonkeyTV still had belief that the last player alive could beat the hacker, saying, “Gibraltar might kill him,” and after seeing Gibraltar call in his Ultimate ability ‘Bombardment’, was thrilled to see the hacker struggling to survive before eventually getting what he deserved and dying to the Gibraltar’s aerial attack. Despite the fact that Gibraltar is considered one of the worst legends that can be chosen in Apex Legends, this player made it work and even outplayed a hacker to become the champion. According to RageMonkeyTV, the hacker’s account is yet to be banned by Respawn for blatantly cheating in-game as of now, although it would seem to be just a matter of time before that is changed. Gibraltar and Caustic get a buff in Apex Legends Although Gibraltar proved useful in this scenario, it still doesn’t change the fact that his large size makes him an easier target for opponents. The same can be said for Caustic, and so Respawn tried to buff both legends by giving them a 10% damage reduction. It remains to be seen if this buff will be enough to bring them into contention for viability when compared to the other more nimble legends, but at least Gibraltar has his uses when it comes to hackers.

Here’s why Apex Legends is missing from YouTube Gaming – Dexerto
Here’s why Apex Legends is missing from YouTube Gaming Respawn/YouTubehitting the 25 million players mark less than a week after release. It has also cemented itself at the top of the Twitch charts – with streamers like Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek regularly accruing over 100 thousand viewers per stream. However, it has still yet to be categorized as a game on YouTube Gaming and the Live platform due to an error with the website’s automated systems. Head of Gaming at YouTube, Ryan ‘Fwiz’ Watt explained the issue, replying to a question from online personality RickyFTW about Apex wasn’t showing up despite it dominating on Twitch. Fwiz answered: “Terrible timing – we had a huge bug in our automated process. “Game pages are automatically created by the system, that’s why we have over 800,000 of them, based off our knowledge graph – and incredibly unfortunate timing with a bug. Team is working on it as a high priority.” Terrible timing — we had a huge bug in our automated process. Game pages are automatically created by the system (that’s why we have over 800,000 of them) based off our knowledge graph, and incredibly unfortunate timing with a bug. Team is working on it as a high priority. — Ryan Wyatt (@Fwiz) February 12, 2019 While the Battle Royale title may not have conquered YouTube yet, it is still on track for some pretty health success moving forward as Respawn has already laid out plans for the first year with a roadmap – revealing that the game will have a Battle Pass in the near future for cosmetic items. For now, though, fans wanting to binge tips and tricks videos will have to wait for YouTube to properly address their issue before they can do.

Here’s what night mode in Apex Legends could look like – Dexerto
Here’s what night mode in Apex Legends could look like Apex Legends players have enjoyed running around King’s Canyon in broad daylight since the game was released, but these incredible images show just how good a night mode would look, if added in the future. Respawn Entertainment’s free-to-play title has surged in popularity since it was launched on February 4, attracting over 25 million players in its first week. However, the developer will be aware that the success of other popular battle royale games has been sustained by constantly adding new content – like a night mode. Playing after dark has been a feature in both PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite for quite some time, and some fans are anticipating that Apex Legends will also make the change in the near future. The idea has largely been discussed in the game’s subreddit, sparked most recently by a post from saxonn_88, which showed an artist’s impression of the map in total darkness – lit up solely by the stars. With a whole host of new content expected to be added to the game, including a brand new weapon which will soon be released, some fans will be hoping for a night mode to appear sometime in the near future. One Reddit user did point out a potential flaw in the idea, though. “The midnight skins will come in clutch though,” they suggested. Another suggested that “the game already makes you noticeable enough at a distance with those glowing outlines.” Whether or not this feature will be added to the game remains to be seen, but the fan discussion should certainly give Respawn some food for thought.

Helpful Apex Legends map shows best Deja Loot locations – Dexerto
Helpful Apex Legends map shows best Deja Loot locations Graphics: Respawn EntertainmentThe System Override event in Apex Legends has changed the loot found in different areas of World’s Edge, and one player has put together a useful map to show all of their findings. Respawn Entertainment revealed the limited time event on February 27, with it lasting between March 3-17 in-game, and it’s brought a few different things to the popular battle royale game. This map will help those playing the Deja Loot limited time game mode, and will even help locate some of the new Evo Shields, which were also revealed with the System Override update. Some looting locations are better to visit than others on the limited time mode, so let’s take a look at where things appear. Reddit user koz1769 will be the first to admit that not everything is included in their map so far, with a number of comments pointing towards locations that aren’t yet marked on the graphic. However, there’s certainly been quite a bit of work put into making it and while not complete – which is something they intend on fixing in the near future – it’s pretty easy to see which landing spots are more attractive than others by reading it. The circle and paths of the dropship change in Deja Loot, but the loot remains the same across World’s Edge, so let’s take a look and see where’s best to land when playing the mode. Based on the map above, you can see the locations of a number of purple (Epic) items, including shields, knock down shields, helmets and more. It shows the likes of Mirage Voyage and The Epicenter are packed with stuff, but it’s also worth noting that they’re two of the most popular landing spots around – so watch out for enemies. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen players point out locations of items for the Deja Loot mode, though, with another creating a map to show where Evo Shields can be found as well. Hopefully this map, and others, will be useful for players looking for specific pieces of armor in the battle royale game. The System Override event, as mentioned earlier, ends on March 17 so if you haven’t already, jump in and see what it’s all about.

Healing in Apex Legends could be greatly improved with this simple change – Dexerto
Healing in Apex Legends could be greatly improved with this simple change Respawn EntertainmentHealing is one of the most important fundamentals of surviving during Apex Legends matches, and one player has come up with a way that it can be considerably improved. There is a multitude of consumables in Apex Legends that contributes to players’ health and shields, including Syringes, Med-Kits, Shield Cells, Shield Batteries, and Phoenix Kits. The way the healing system currently works in-game is that these consumables are placed into a scroll-wheel, from which players select the one they want to use at any given time. To make healing more efficient, players are able to set a certain health consumable as the default, so that they can trigger its use without having to manually select it from the scroll wheel each time. However, depending on the situation, players are often still forced to change their consumable of choice at various points during the match, which can still prove to be nuisance at times, especially during the heat of battle. Proposed changes to healing Apex Legends Reddit user ‘Pharroh_Tyga’ has posted a breakdown of how the healing system in Apex Legends could be improved, and it involves the game being able to determines what kind of healing consumable the player needs to use at any given time. Essentially, if a player was low on shield but high on health, pressing the heal button would automatically trigger the use of a Shield Battery, while the opposite scenario would lead to a Med-Kit being used. The proposal also suggests that the stronger health items be used in priority to lesser ones, meaning Batteries would be used before Cells and Med-Kits would be used before Syringes. Improvements to this proposal While the basis of the idea proposed by the Reddit user is pretty good, others pointed out some aspects of it that could prove to be counterproductive. For one, the feature would only work well if its was optional, meaning players would have the chance to enable or disable it according to their preference. Furthermore, some players may want to use the lesser consumables before the higher ones, so having Batteries and Med-Kits be consumed first by default may not be ideal. A good improvement to this idea would have the health algorithm change based on what kind of Armor the player has equipped: White armor: prefer cells over batteries – Blue armor+: prefer batteries when – – Never automatically use Phx kit, but have separate and keybinding option specifically for Phx kit. – Intended for console All of the ideas presented above would be intended for console much more than PC, since players using a mouse and keyboard are able to bind different types of health consumables to whichever keys they choose. However, controller players are forced to use the scroll wheel, which can be frustrating and difficult to navigate during gunfights, so having a system that determines the consumable you need at any given time would be a huge plus.

Respawn may have teased a crazy new hop-up for Apex Legends – Dexerto
Respawn may have teased a crazy new hop-up for Apex Legends Developers Respawn Entertainment may have teased a new weapon option coming to Apex Legends, at least if a new Crypto image is anything to go by. Apex Legends Season 3 kicked off on October 1 and has generally received positive feedback from the majority of the community. Players are enjoying the wealth of new content, including the opportunity to play as the hacker Crypto, as well as trying out various new weapon attachments. Eagle-eyed Reddit users appear to have found a new weapon modification, potentially coming to the game soon – but nothing is confirmed. Respawn have been known to tease players before, leaving little easter eggs in-game and in trailers to hint at content arriving soon. Fans think they may have discovered another teaser, this time through a feature available as an unlockable screen in-game, in which Crypto can be seen with dual-wield weapons. The weapons themselves are not entirely clear, but look most similar to an RE-45 or P2020 pistol. A host of weapon-specific attachments – also known as hop ups – were added at the start of Season 3, but no dual wield options are in-game at the moment. This seems to push it beyond the realms of irrelevancy, and suggests Respawn could be working on dual-wields for some weapons. 600Dual-wield weapons are nothing new to FPS games. They allow users to fire two weapons simultaneously, leading to a faster time to kill, but often sacrifice both range and accuracy, as the ADS (aim down sights) mechanic is disabled. It is a typical feature of machine pistols and SMGs, hence why the P2020, RE-45 or perhaps even the Alternator, are the most likely weapons to receive this specific hop up, if it was to be added. While far from confirmed, the image does potentially hint that dual-wield weapon options could be coming to Apex, and fans are certainly excited by that prospect. One fan suggested that Hammerpoint rounds (currently available on the P2020 and Mozambique) could be removed in favor of dual-wielding. However, others raised concerns that dual-wielding could be too powerful up close, perhaps even outperforming shotguns. The trade-off here is that what dual-wield weapons gain in firepower, they also lose accuracy at any kind of range. We’ll have to wait and see if Respawn do indeed add any dual-wield options at some point in Season 3, perhaps with their next major update.

Has PlayStation leaked another legend coming in Apex Legends Season 1? – Dexerto
Has PlayStation leaked another legend coming in Apex Legends Season 1? PlayStation/RespawnSeason one of Apex Legends has only just gotten underway, but it might already be set to see a fresh new face – if PlayStation is to be believed. The first load of seasonal content, named Wild Frontier, launched on March 19, adding plenty of fresh new content to the game. Octane, the first new legend, is a high-speed Adrenaline Junkie with the ability to go soaring through the skies with his launch pad and was added with the start of Wild Frontier after weeks of speculation. Yet, the next installment of content during Wild Frontier, which is set to run until around June 5, may have already been hinted at on a number of official PlayStation websites – one from the United States and another from Hungary. A description on the Hungarian PlayStation store website reads: “Two new legends will be introduced during the season, using the new weapon sets you can access as the season progresses. Plus, with every new Legend and weapon, you can get a whole new set of accessories.” While the American website states that season one will see “new legends” dropping into the arena known as King’s Canyon. Whether or not new legends are added during season one remains to be seen, however, there have been hints and leaks towards plenty of new legends being available to use in the battle royale. One in particular, Wattson, appeared in leaks not long after information about Octane began popping up – and the character, who looks set to be centered around electrical abilities, is quite possibly the next to be added considering we know more about her than any of the other new Legends. As with any leak of game information, there’s a chance that plans could change and also that wires could have been crossed, with the PlayStation stores having the wrong information out there. However, considering the details are still live on the respective websites, it’s quite possible that PlayStation has just dropped subtle hints earlier than planned.

Has Crypto’s drone been given secret buff in Apex Legends Season 4? – Dexerto
Has Crypto’s drone been given secret buff in Apex Legends Season 4? Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment usually reveal all Apex Legends changes with patch notes ahead of each major update, although some players think a Crypto buff has been released under the radar. The last time we saw patch notes from the developers was the beginning of Season 4 on February 4, where they added a brand new legend, Revenant, but there was no mention of any current characters being tweaked in-game. However, some members of the game’s online community think they have found enough evidence to suggest one of Crypto’s abilities has actually been handed a boost. For those who don’t main the character, Crypto’s normal ability is a flying drone that can be used to spot nearby enemies, pick up banners, hack doors and supply bins, among other things – making it one of the most useful in the battle royale game. While that all sounds great, the ability it possesses can soon come to an end if players shoot down the drone, although some fans think this has been made increasingly more difficult to do of late, suggesting a health increase has secretly been implemented. One Reddit user, Piter_neo_PL, posted footage of themselves shooting at the ‘eye in the sky’ and despite recording many hitmarkers on the flying surveillance machine using an R-99 submachine gun, it was still able to escape. This prompted the following caption: “Crypto drone buff? 100+ hp,” suggesting it had been given more health. Based on one clip, it’s quite difficult to tell if this is either a secret change that’s been added to the game to prevent so many drones from being shot down, or whether this is some sort of hitmarker bug. One fan in the thread claimed to have spotted the same issue, too, stating: “I too have noticed this lately, it takes way too many shots to take his drone out now for some reason.” Some Redditors suggested in the thread that there’s a possibility that hitmarkers were appearing but bullets weren’t landing, while others suggested the use of a stronger weapon moving forward, such as the Flatline or Sentinel.

Handy Horizon Ult trick to outplay door campers in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Handy Horizon Ult trick to outplay door campers in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentIf you’re looking for new ways to counter door campers in Apex Legends, Horizon might offer the perfect solution with her Black Hole ultimate. Horizon is the latest Legend to be added to the Apex Games, arriving at the start of Season 7, dubbed the ‘Gravitational Manipulator’ because of her abilities’ focus on exactly that — reversing or controlling gravity. She brings a very different dynamic to Apex gameplay if you play as her, and has clearly made a big impact on the meta. As it stands, she is head-to-head with Wraith for win rate, which shows just how effective she can be — hence why the devs are planning to nerf her. Now, you can see why she’s so popular, with tricks like this one making her the gold standard in attacking even enemies who are behind closed doors. While Horizon’s Passive and Tactical abilities are both impressive and helpful to navigating the game, her Ultimate ability, Black Hole, can be instrumental in changing your fortune — and incredibly frustrating to play against. Apex Legends players will commonly use doors to their advantage. For example, you can sit behind them to keep an eye on enemies while you heal or revive a teammate. While door camping is fairly common in the game, this clip from friarface shows just how devastating Horizon’s Black Hole can be, as she throws it down and immediately starts dragging enemies in through the door, throwing a couple of Thermite grenades at them for good measure. The Black Hole essentially makes using the doors for cover useless and allows Horizon and her teammates to keep attacking their opponents, which is especially frustrating for them as they were trying to get the revive off. It’s unclear yet how exactly Respawn plans on nerfing Horizon, so you’ll probably want to try this trick soon, as it might be too late once the patch comes in. And next time you try to take cover behind a door, maybe do a quick scout of the area to make sure Horizon isn’t knocking about nearby.

Handy Apex Legends Rampage trick cancels Thermite charge movement nerf – Dexerto
Handy Apex Legends Rampage trick cancels Thermite charge movement nerf Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players found a way to eliminate the movement nerf while using a Thermite grenade to charge a Rampage that anyone can perform. Similar to the Sentinel with Shield Cells, players can apply a ‘Revved Up’ buff to the Rampage LMG that boosts its fire rate and boost its damage against doors. The trade off, however, comes in the four-second charge time that heavily limits someone’s movement lest it gets canceled. Players have discovered a workaround to this movement nerf that goes one step further by letting people run while inserting a Thermite into the gun. This essentially resolves the greatest downside of revving up the LMG while negating the most frustrating issue about the in-game mechanic. Cancel Rampage Thermite animation To quickly pop a Thermite into a Rampage while moving, all you have to do is run into a slide-jump just before inserting the grenade. Not only will this push you through the loading animation but it will also keep your character actively running to close the gap with nearby opponents. “It’s really useful because whenever you’re trying to push a fight,” user ‘ytseby97’ explained. “You’re already far away and you want to make sure you’re going as fast as you can to that spot then also having an [over powered] charged-up Rampage to absolutely annihilate [opponents].” Additionally, this does away with the frustrating ambiguity of the charge-up animation. At times, players are left to guess the optimal timing to start running again after commencing the Rampage’s charge so as to not accidentally cancel it. In trying to reproduce the technique, some players ran into trouble that others attributed to having ‘Auto Sprint’ turned on. Even still, the mechanics are broad enough that Apex Legends players on console or PC should be able to use this trick to cancel the Rampage’s Thermite charge nerf to movement.

Handy Apex Legends finisher trick removes annoying door campers – Dexerto
Handy Apex Legends finisher trick removes annoying door campers Respawn/EA[jwplayer WxboviTo]Apex Legends players have got a handy trick that anyone can use if you happen to come up against a downed enemy who is blocking your path through a door. Anyone who has ventured into the world of Apex Legends knows just how it annoying it when you down an enemy but can’t finish the job. They can easily slide away to their teammates, get revived, and turn the tables on you. It’s also incredibly annoying when you’ve got them downed but instead of them high-tailing it to a waiting teammate, they lay down in front of you and restrict your path. This can be even more infuriating when you’re inside a building. However, some players have got a neat trick that every Apex Legends fan should know that will you get rid of a downed enemy who is blocking a door. It comes courtesy of Reddit user LEtheD13, who points out that by starting and then canceling certain finishers, you can pretty much toss an enemy out the way. That’s right, if you trigger certain finisher animations on a downed enemy, and then cancel it before you eliminate them, they will be moved out of your way in a flash. That means that you’re not a sitting duck while finishing the kill and your path has been opened so that you can chase down their teammates. Though, as noted, the animation only comes through certain canceled finishers, so you might have to experiment with a few different ones first. As mentioned, with it only working for a few certain finishers, it’s not known if this is a strange animation bug or something that Respawn intended to happen. Either way, however, if it is intended, you won’t have to worry about them fixing it. Though, if they do roll out a fix, it won’t be the end of the world either.

Disabled Apex Legends player dominates using one hand on controller – Dexerto
Disabled Apex Legends player dominates using one hand on controller Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player who was born with a disability in his left hand has learned to dominate opponents with just a single hand on controller. Learning the basics and fundamentals of Apex Legends is a tough task for any player, especially if it’s their first FPS title. So, when a member of the community with a physical disadvantage manages to master the game and outplay their opponents with ease, it always deserves a lot of attention. Well, Japanese player Garfiel_gh has done exactly that, beaming foes in Apex using just one hand on controller. The talented player was born with a disability in his left hand but hasn’t let that stop him from refining his mechanics and aim. Talented Apex player uses just one hand on controller As Garfiel_gh can only use one hand to maneuver his controller, he has to use a unique grip that allows him to hit all of the functions. The most impressive aspect of this technique is his ability to control movement and aim with his thumb and index finger simultaneously. As showcased in the clips below, Garfiel_gh’s aim has become immensely impressive after countless hours of practice, with him seemingly unable to miss a bullet. Talking to Jake Lucky, Garfiel_gh revealed that he also enjoys playing Fortnite and Overwatch, so it’s clear his skills aren’t just limited to Apex. It’s always great to see inspirational stories like this from the community, especially when it involves someone overcoming the odds and becoming a better player than anyone thought possible.

Hammerpoint Rounds return in Apex Legends Season 12 & will work with RE-45 too – Dexerto
Hammerpoint Rounds return in Apex Legends Season 12 & will work with RE-45 too Respawn EntertainmentThe Hammerpoint Rounds hop-up will finally return in Apex Legends Defiance after being removed in Season 9, and this time, it can even be equipped to the RE-45. Ever since its removal all the way back in Season 9, the community has been calling on Respawn to return the Hammerpoint Rounds hop-up to the game. At first, this seemed unlikely as the devs opted to buff the weapons that use the attachment instead of keeping Hammerpoints in the loot pool. However, it appears they’ve had a change of heart as the fan-favorite hop-up will be making its return in Season 12, and this time, it’s even available to use on the RE-45. Hammerpoint Rounds finally return to Apex Legends As confirmed by the devs in a recent panel ahead of Season 12, Hammerpoint Rounds will be making their return in Defiance and will now be available to use on the RE-45. This has the potential to make the underused machine pistol incredibly popular in Season 12, especially as a secondary to finish off unshielded targets. Of course, the beloved attachment can also be used with the Mozambique and P2020, so don’t be afraid to hold onto one of these guns for slightly longer than usual in Defiance. https://twitter.com/alphaINTEL/status/1488556617423536129?cxt=HHwWgoCymeuWtagpAAAA Although the news that Hammerpoints are returning has got the Apex community excited, it’ll be interesting to see if the positivity lasts throughout the entirety of Defiance. One of the reasons the hop-up was removed in Season 9 was due to complaints that players were being instantly killed with no shields. This is unlikely to have changed unless the devs have tweaked the hop-up’s power slightly. Either way, the return of Hammerpoints will certainly give the Mozambique, P2020, and RE-45 a new lease of life and could propel them into the meta, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Gravity-warping Apex Legends design takes inspiration from Overwatch – Dexerto
Gravity-warping Apex Legends design takes inspiration from Overwatch Respawn Entertainment / BlizzardBringing the forces of Overwatch’s Zarya to World’s Edge and King’s Canyon, this stunning Apex Legends character design would give battle royale players the ability to bend gravity to their will. While the Apex community is constantly pushing out unique designs in the form of new character skins and even new weapons, various creators focus their efforts on realizing entirely new Legends for the popular Battle Royale title. Building a new character from the ground up, this design took inspiration from various sources, including Blizzard’s popular hero shooter Overwatch. Showcasing their latest concept with a look at their new Legend in the character select screen, Reddit user ‘DudeWithName’ unveiled ‘Brigade’ to the Apex community. A bearded individual with snow goggles at the ready, the new addition seems to have a wealth of experience under his belt and completely ready to tackle any climate that the various Apex maps could throw at him. Dropping into battle with a unique slate of abilities, Brigade’s Ultimate draws inspiration from Overwatch’s Tank hero Zarya in that he is able to pull enemies into place. When a ‘Gravity Well’ ordnance is deployed, it “generates a gravity field around it which pulls in enemies and projectiles before pushing everything away.” On top of his Graviton Surge-esque Ultimate, the Legend also comes boasting a Tactical and Passive ability to boot. The former being Electric Smoke which does more than just cloud the view of your opponents. Once deployed, the projectile emits electric smoke that destroys traps and “temporarily disables enemy HUD’s and weapon UI.” Moreover, Brigade’s passive ensures that he would be a near inescapable force in close-range fights as the ‘Ironclad Breacher’ allows him to instantly break through doors with a single melee. Enemies standing behind doors will receive a set amount of damage from his hulking melee attack while traps will be instantly deleted upon being hit. With years of experience playing around Zarya’s gravity-bending Ultimate in Overwatch, players are still finding new ways to catch their opponents off guard. Setting the Legend apart from any other character in the world of Respawn’s battle royale with a similar Ultimate, there’s no denying Brigade would be a welcomed addition to the game’s roster.

Gravity-defying Apex Legends trick allows Octane to run on air – Dexerto
Gravity-defying Apex Legends trick allows Octane to run on air Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has discovered a trick that allows Octane to defy physics and walk on air. It involves using the momentum of his ultimate and a surface above him to latch onto. Since the release of the adrenaline junkie back in 2019, Octane has been an extremely popular Legend with the Apex community. When it comes to movement abilities, it’s fair to say he’s unmatched and perfect for any aggressive Apex player. Of course, as with any Legend, it’s important Octane mains know the character inside out, including the situational tricks that are possible with his kit. From countering door campers with his ultimate to knowing how to use his launchpad effectively, these are all important tips to know. Well, there’s a new trick that you can take to your Apex games that allows Octane to walk on air for a short period of time. Apex Legends trick allows Octane to walk on air A thread posted to the ApexUniversity subreddit has revealed a trick that allows Octane to defy-gravity. At the time of writing, the post has over 1600 upvotes. The trick involves a player using Octane’s ultimate under a flat surface that he can ride along. For example, in the video from the thread, english-cashew uses a bridge on World’s Edge. The upwards momentum from Octane’s ultimate isn’t thwarted by the flat surface, allowing him to stick to it and run through the air. It’s unclear why the momentum isn’t stopped by the flat surface, but it can definitely be used to a player’s advantage. As seen in the clip, it’s perfect for finding a flank on an unsuspecting squad on the other side of a bridge. It’s almost impossible for an enemy team to predict and they’ll certainly be caught off-guard by a floating Octane. There’s no doubt that this is a trick you’ll want to keep in mind the next time you lock-in Octane. It’s knowing situational tips like this that will take your gameplay with the Legend to another level.

Grammy nominee Jordan Fisher wants voice acting role in Overwatch, Apex or Valorant – Dexerto
Grammy nominee Jordan Fisher wants voice acting role in Overwatch, Apex or Valorant Jordan Fisher/ComplexityJust a few hours after receiving a Grammy nomination for his work on Disney Pixar’s Turning Red, Jordan Fisher has urged the Overwatch, Apex Legends, and Valorant devs to hand him a role in one of their games. While the look and gameplay of a character is essential, it’s the work of the voice actor that really brings them to life. The perfect VO can add an extra layer of personality to our favorite multiplayer heroes, causing us to pick them over and over again. With multiplayer games bigger than ever before, it’s no surprise that plenty of big-name stars would love the chance to lend their talent to one of these projects. Grammy nominee Jordan Fisher looked to make this dream a reality by tweeting the devs directly to ask for a role. Just hours after news of the nomination, Fisher saw an opportunity to try and secure a part in some of his favorite games; Overwatch, Apex Legends, and even Valorant. “Lemme shoot my shot again rq. Yo @PlayOverwatch @PlayApex @PlayVALORANT PLEASE. It’s time,” he tweeted before listing his credentials. He pointed out that he has plenty of experience as a VO artist, following his contributions to Turning Red as well Star Wars: Visions, and has worked with the voice actors in the games before. Fisher is also an avid streamer, joining Complexity Gaming earlier in 2022, with the three games he mentioned appearing on his channel regularly. Fisher received a Grammy nod for the song Nobody Like U from Disney Pixar’s Turning Red, which is up for Best Song Written for Visual Media. The American actor and musician made up part of the fictional boy band 4*Town, who performed the track during the film. While Jordan Fisher is more well-known for his film and TV work, it wouldn’t be the first time he’s landed a video game role. He voiced and did motion capture for Matt in 2015’s Until Dawn, one of the eight playable characters. This isn’t the first time the star has tried to secure a spot in a popular video game. But, fresh off a Grammy nomination, we wouldn’t be surprised to finally hear Fisher play a character in any of these titles later down the line.

Gold shotgun bolt explained in Apex Legends: New Season 16 attachment – Dexerto
Gold shotgun bolt explained in Apex Legends: New Season 16 attachment Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Season 16 will be introducing the gold shotgun bolt attachment which allows players to reload their weapon by sliding, even when their gun is stowed. Apex Legends Revelry is set to be an exciting season packed with fresh content including the Nemesis Burst AR, new classes, and a permanent team deathmatch mode. Of course, while the huge additions will get the majority of the attention, some of the minor features may have a significant impact on the meta. One of which is the gold shotgun bolt, an attachment inspired by the Kinetic Feeder Hop-Up that reloads your gun while sliding. This has the potential to elevate the power of shotguns and even has a few special strengths that make it stronger than the Kinetic Feeder ever was. Gold shotgun bolt added in Apex Legends Season 16 The gold shotgun bolt is a new attachment arriving in Apex Legends Season 16 for the Peacekeeper, Mastiff, EVA-8, and Mozambique. Inspired by the Kinetic Feeder, when equipped the attachment will automatically take shells from your backpack and reload your weapon while sliding. It’s worth noting that the reload speed is extremely fast, so even short slides will result in an extra round for your shotgun. Not only that, the gold shotgun bolt continues to work when your weapon is stowed, allowing you to make movement plays while simultaneously weaving in shots on your foes It’ll be interesting to see whether the gold shotgun bolt elevates certain weapons into the meta, but that will likely depend on the spawn rate of the attachment. Either way, it’s a top-tier addition for players who love to make movement plays and interweave sliding into their combat. The Kinetic Feeder was always a fan-favorite hop-up, so a more powerful version of it is guaranteed to see a lot of use in the Outlands.

Gold Apex Legends ranked player gets matched against Top 5 Predator and players can’t believe it – Dexerto
Gold Apex Legends ranked player gets matched against Top 5 Predator and players can’t believe it Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends ranked matchmaking woes continue as a Gold ranked player gets put in a game against a champion squad made up of 3 Predator players, one of them ranked top 5. The ranked changes that were rolled out in Apex Legends Season 13 were controversial at the time, and Season 14 doesn’t seem to have fixed some of players’ biggest gripes. It’s a lot harder to rank up than it was before Season 13, and risk/reward is much higher with kills and assists having no RP cap with the Season 14 changes. Apex Legends ranked in Season 14 has some serious issues The best Apex Legends players are thriving in Season 14, but ranked matchmaking sometimes has some difficulty finding good opponents for players that accelerate through the ranks so quickly. These matchmaking issues have hit critical mass, with a Gold ranked player (u/LazyHitman1) getting matchmade against some of the best Apex Legends ranked players in the world. Matchmaking at the start of this clip was already a bit skewed with Octane being matched with a Plat 1 player from Gold II, but these players were still fairly close in rank. Then the champion squad showed up. Three Predator ranked players, one of them top 5 on the server. Their player were cards embroidered with Predator badges from previous seasons. While there have been some players accused of boosting to Predator, it’s safe to say that players ranked so highly with so many Predator badges have earned their stripes and belong at that rank. These issues aren’t isolated to high ranks, either. For instance, this Platinum player (u/Pleasant_Corgi) got matched with someone who was still Rookie rank, the very lowest rank in Apex Legends. All of this on top of the fact that Apex Legends still has a massive player count across multiple platforms. In fact, Apex Legends beat its player count peak in Season 14. Clearly, there’s no lack of players to match with in populated regions. Yet there are many examples of matchmaking not working properly, and players getting put in lobbies way above (or below) their skill level. Whether or not Respawn can resolve these serious matchmaking issues remains to be seen.

Glitched spots on Apex Legends map let you hide in rocks for easy wins – Dexerto
Glitched spots on Apex Legends map let you hide in rocks for easy wins Apex Legends Season 3 ditched Kings Canyon and replaced it with World’s Edge, but the new map has had its fair share of problems. Glitches have always been persistent in Respawn’s hit battle royale title, but the majority of them have just been minor inconveniences instead of anything game-breaking, but that has all changed here. A new glitch allows players to hide inside of a rock and hide for easy high placements in a match, and even a win depending on where the circle closes. This glitch in question actually makes a normal looking rock have no collision detection, allowing players to crouch inside of it while remaining invisible to the naked eye. Reddit user jjohn141 was able to capture this in a clip where an enemy team was huddled inside of the rock trying to wait it out for an easy win. However, this Redditor had other plans as they went into the rock with the squad and eliminated them, securing the win for themselves. This is a pretty major exploit that exists in the game right now, as players will easily be able to abuse it and ride it out to easy victories. Normally, it’d be annoying, but it wouldn’t matter too much since there wasn’t a ranked mode, but now Apex does have that and this could directly influence player ranks. If Respawn isn’t aware of this glitch yet, they certainly will as it becomes more and more abused. 600Now players will have to be cautious of rocks they come across as there’s no telling which ones are actually rocks or what are actually death traps holding a whole squad. It’s a bizarre glitch for sure and we hope the developers will be able to fix this one before it becomes too out of hand. Many replies to the thread indicate the glitch is already becoming widespread with several players they have already run into players using the exploit. Major bugs like this usually move straight to the top of the priority list since they have a direct impact on the game. Keep an eye on the Apex Legends Trello board and see if this pops up in the coming days. In the meantime, be extra wary of suspicious-looking rocks.

Glitched “hole” in Apex Legends lets players get under World’s Edge map – Dexerto
Glitched “hole” in Apex Legends lets players get under World’s Edge map EAA pair of Apex Legends players have discovered a serious glitch that allows access to the underbelly of the World’s Edge map. We’ve seen players find ways to get underneath the map in Apex Legends before, but it usually hasn’t been as simple as jumping into actual openings in the ground. One player and their friend came across an entrance to the bottom of the map near the Thermal Station, and it appears to be available to anyone without the need to exploit anything. The two climbed behind a few rocks and looked down at a deep hole underground. They decided to dive in to see where it took them, and to their surprise, it led the players to an area beneath the entire map. Fortunately for the other competitors, their time down there was short-lived, as after a short period of exploration, they eventually were killed by the game. They didn’t get a chance to look up and shoot other players in their clip, so it’s tough to know if you could actually deal any real damage from this spot. Of course, it could end up being a strategic area to get into if the circle ever manages to close there. Players under the map have a much easier time traversing harsh terrain, mainly because there aren’t many structures to block players in the “upside down,” so they might be able to find a safe spot and camp it out for an easy victory. This glitch does have the potential to become a major problem down the road if it ends up being abused. For the time being at least, there doesn’t appear to be much of a reason to go down the veritable rabbit hole, outside of merely checking it out once or twice. If players can figure out how to survive for a long time underneath the map while walking around, then there might be some issues the developers must consider. From the looks of things, all it’ll take is a few more rocks to cover up this mysterious hole, so it might be worth keeping an eye on this spot to see if Respawn decide to fix it without telling anyone first. With Season 4 presumably just around the corner, this could end up being one of the changes that come with that patch.

Apex Legends stats show crazy amount of damage Gibraltar can take – Dexerto
Apex Legends stats show crazy amount of damage Gibraltar can take Respawn EntertainmentIt’s no secret that Gibraltar is capable of taking more damage than any other character in Apex Legends, but just how much punishment the big man can actually survive has some players scratching their heads. Gibraltar has been around since day one of the Apex Games and he’s always been a little more solid than most other Legends, but a series of recent updates have made him bulkier than ever before, with players recently calculating he could theoretically soak up over 300 damage before being knocked. This led Reddit user O0804 to explore the maximum amount of damage the character could take under the most ridiculous of circumstances, even though we’ll probably never see things get this far. Though the post is tagged as humor, it does raise some interesting questions about how much fire the legend could potentially soak up during a fight. First off, level 5 EVO armor gives Gibraltar 225 total health, combined with his passive Fortified perk that adds another 33.75 damage on top. If you’re lucky enough to drop in with a Revenant on your squad, you can also tack on another 50 HP from reviving with the Death Totem ultimate and 7.5 on top of that from Fortified. Then comes the Gun Shield, which has a listed health of 50, but is capable of blocking basically anything, since shots that break the barrier don’t pass any leftover damage through to Gibraltar. Four RE-45 shots and one Kraber bullet produce the maximum damage possible to break the shield (193), but not harm to our boy, bringing our grand total to a ridiculous 509.25 damage. As we said before, this post is more of a hypothetical situation, but it does a good job of showing just how frustrated some players feel when they encounter the large Legend in a 1v1 situation. But, in those late game, long-range situations players often find themselves in, the Shielded Fortress can suffer due to his large model, which presents a much bigger target than, say, Wraith or Pathfinder. However, players are willing to take on that risk knowing that not only is Gibby one of the top-tier characters in terms of what he brings to the table, but he can absorb in incredible amount of damage as well.

Valkyrie’s Ultimate is trapping teammates in the ground in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Valkyrie’s Ultimate is trapping teammates in the ground in Apex Legends Respawn/EAWhile the new legend within Apex Legends has been a joy to play with, her ultimate ability does sometimes have the unfortunate side-effect of trapping players underground. Season 9 of Apex Legends is well underway now, and players worldwide have been getting a chance to try out the newest legend, Valkyrie. She has an impressive kit that enables her to maneuver within the sky to reign down fire on her enemies. But, no game is ever perfect, and a new pesky bug has surfaced within Apex Legends that has hindered the effect of Valkyrie’s Skyward Dive ultimate when trying to lift a teammate into the sky. While it doesn’t; stop the legend from using her ultimate to its full potential, the clips are still pretty funny. Too heavy for liftoff? For those who don’t know, Valkyrie’s ultimate ability allows her to lift off into the sky to quickly get to a destination. An added bonus to this ultimate is that her two teammates can grab onto her and also propel upwards with his. This ultimate has been fantastic for getting out of sticky scenarios or getting to a better advantage point for the oncoming circle. Using the ability on certain terrains can cause an unfortunate glitch though, where one of the latched on teammates will become trapped under the geometry. Reddit user “Roku-_-” posted a clip of their experience with this annoying bug. As soon as they latch on to Valk, Gibby falls through the floor of the map and then gets banished to the shadow realm. The player joked that Gibby simply weighs too much. As one user notes that “Gibby needs a diet.” However, no matter the size of Gibraltar’s hitbox the fact an ultimate meant to help actually murders him, is an issue that probably wasn’t meant to be a feature. And, the bug doesn’t only affect Gibby, other clips show Bloodhound being trapped in similar sitatuations. We will have to wait and see if Respawn intends on resolving this new bug, but they should hopefully get to it sometime in the near future.

New Gibraltar glitch is leaving Apex Legends players defenseless – Dexerto
New Gibraltar glitch is leaving Apex Legends players defenseless Apex Legends Season Three has been out in the wild for a few weeks now and dedicated players are continuing to uncover more and more bugs. Released on October 1, the third season of Respawn Entertainment’s Battle Royale title introduced a wide array of content from the brand new map World’s Edge, to the latest Legend Crypto. With a slew of new content often comes an abundance of fresh bugs. Thus far the community has been treated to bizzarre revive bugs, terrain issues, and even a complication when simply trying to pick up loot. Fortunately, developers have typically been quick to mitigate certain issues however a new Gibraltar bug has been discovered and it could lead to your next loss. In an October 23 post, Reddit user ‘roccscout’ provided a thorough breakdown of the recently discovered Gibraltar bug. The primary concern stems from his Gun Shield ability which has become somewhat faulty since the latest update. Read more: How to get easy kills when ‘shield swapping’ – Throughout the video, the player showcased how the recharge function of the weapon shield would appear inaccurate. Upon activating the shield in the demonstration, it is immediately destroyed by an enemy player wielding the controversial charge rifle. Quickly swapping weapons, it is soon highlighted how despite being in a cooldown state, aiming down sights can still display a brand new shield on the secondary weapon. Traditionally, the mechanic is supposed to be inactive for a short period of time upon being destroyed. While the shield itself only makes up 75 hit points worth of protection, the lengthy regeneration period can be sped up through the use of Shield Cells or Shield Batteries. As exemplified in the video, this bug can cause dramatic complications in the middle of gunfights. Players unaware of the issue would be led to believe that their shield is active when in fact, the ability is only being rendered on their screen alone. The mechanic can lead to some aggressive playstyles as the added protection enables players to push up on the opposition. Yet until this error is resolved, the Gun Shield might cause you to be out of position with no support whatsoever. If you’re a Gibraltar-main be sure to keep this complication in mind throughout your next few matches. If your secondary weapon displays a Gun Shield, just be prepared to dodge enemy fire instead. Recently the developers patched out a multitude of bugs plaguing the competitive shooter so this Season Three issue shouldn’t remain in the game for much longer.

Gibraltar dome shield nerf idea could be the solution to his kit in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Gibraltar dome shield nerf idea could be the solution to his kit in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentIn an attempt to balance Gibraltar in competitive Apex Legends, a player has developed a nerf concept to make his Tactical less oppressive. For multiple seasons, Gibraltar has been in a strange position in Apex Legends where his popularity in standard matches is incredibly low, but he remains a staple member of every single competitive squad. This is due to his Dome of Protection that allows him to deploy a huge protective shield, an ability that is invaluable at the highest level of play. Unfortunately, this contrast between competitive and standard matches makes Gibraltar extremely difficult to balance and while the devs have confirmed they’re weighing up potential solutions, they’re yet to decide on which changes to make. So, instead of waiting for Respawn to fix the issue, a modder has decided to develop their own concept and balance the dome themselves. Gibraltar nerf concept makes his dome destructible Apex Legends modder Archtux has suggested balancing Gibraltar’s Tactical by nerfing its offensive power but still allowing it to be used for cover when getting shot from a distance. Their solution involves adding wind-up time for the dome to activate after it’s been thrown, as well as making the device in the middle of the shield destructible. This means the only way enemies can destroy the shield is by getting inside of it and destroying the device on the floor. While this wouldn’t prevent a team from using the dome for cover, it would stop Gibraltar’s from instantly deploying a shield in the middle of a close-range gunfight. After watching the interview by @k1janna, this is my solution 2.0 on how to nerf Gibby offensive power without removing his defensive power. Tell me what you think! (Variables can be adjusted accordingly)https://t.co/YyafpGcMjd#ApexLegends #Gibraltar #R5Reloaded pic.twitter.com/bJnyigBYCb — Archtux – アーチタックス (@ArchtuxTV) January 24, 2022 Although Archtux’s concept would certainly make Gibraltar less of a must-pick Legend in competitive, it’s unlikely to aid his popularity in standard matches. That’s the biggest challenge with Gibraltar in his current state, Respawn needs to ensure when they do make changes, he becomes more fun and balanced at the same time. This is definitely not an easy task, but Archtux’s idea at least shows there are ways of nerfing Gibraltar without making him useless in the current meta.

Gibraltar and Caustic broken after v1.1.1 Apex Legends update – Dexerto
Gibraltar and Caustic broken after v1.1.1 Apex Legends update The recent major update in Apex Legends was largely a popular one among the player-base, except for the part that has seemingly broken the Caustic and Gibraltar Legends. On April 16, Respawn Entertainment released the v1.1.1 update in Apex Legends, containing a lot of changes to various aspects of the game. One of the areas that the changes target was Legends, more specifically giving Gibraltar and Caustic a brand new Passive Perk called Fortified, giving each Legend a 10% reduction in damage taken. However, players began to notice that this new Fortified perk had actually messed with the two Legends in a way that was causing their health to drop during gunfights while they still had Body Armor equipped. Normally, when a player has Body Armor equipped, the Armor will absorb all of the damage that is inflicted upon the Legend, and only after it breaks and falls off does the Legend’s actual health start getting affected. Leads to bigger issue with Body Armor While this issue with Gibraltar and Caustic is pretty serious on its own, by default, it leads to a bigger issue for players who get into gunfights against those Legends throughout the course of a match. Players have reported on Reddit that, because some of the bullets fired are hitting those Legends’ Body Armor and some directly impacting their health, trying to figure out what kind of Armor they are wearing, and whether or not it’s been broken off yet, gets frustratingly difficult. “Caustic and Gibraltar are currently bugged,” writes Reddit user ‘Mitsiee.’ “You cannot see what Armor they are wearing when firing on them.” The video below, courtesy of streamer ‘LeaonBackwardsTV,’ clearly shows this issue occurring in-game, as the player keeps getting inconsistent Body Armor feedback when firing his weapon, leading to him getting knocked and understandably frustrated. Why is this happening, and when will it be fixed? Since this issue has come to light, there has not been any word from Respawn about what may be causing it or when it could be fixed. Our best guess is that it has to do with the v1.1.1 update, which buffed the Gibraltar and Caustic, since those two Legends are the only ones that have this issue. In fact, this is seemingly not the only damage that the v1.1.1 update caused; on April 16, players began noticing that the Gibraltar was now able to cast aside Arc Stars thrown at him, which some believed was a “secret” buff given to the Legend. While that theory has now been dispelled by a developer, it remains to be see how long it will take, if ever, for this new issue to be resolved.

Apex Legends Gibraltar buff would greatly improve his gun shield – Dexerto
Apex Legends Gibraltar buff would greatly improve his gun shield EAGibraltar is one the weaker characters in Apex Legends but this small buff could significantly improve his viability. Since Apex Legends is a battle royale that features different characters with different abilities, it’s no surprise that some of the characters are just considered better than others. One name that usually finds his name at the bottom of a tier list is Gibraltar as he is one of the biggest Legends in the game and doesn’t really have a powerful ability. One thing that makes Gibraltar worth playing is his deployable shield that can soak up a bit of damage but this simple buff could go a long way in improving him. Currently, when Gibraltar deploys his shield it lights up as blue which makes him a pretty big target to other players. Gibraltar’s buff could make his shield a lot more useful The proposed buff makes Gibraltar’s shield transparent which would help hide his shield from enemies and not make him as big of a target. The only way the shield would light up would be if Gibraltar is taking damage. Making his shield less noticeable would help him from becoming a target to everyone around him. While this wouldn’t allow his shield to take more damage, it would help disguise the shield when it’s up, causing an enemy to waste shots on it without knowing. What other characters need buffs? Getting this buff wouldn’t make Gibraltar into a meta character by any means but it would certainly make him a lot more viable than he is currently. It’ll be a long way before Wraith is knocked off the top spot but minor buffs to other characters could help close the gap more. Read More: Are custom games heading to Apex Legends? – If anyone needs a buff, it’s certainly Caustic as he currently doesn’t bring a whole lot to the table in terms of useful abilities. He excels at making gas rooms, but that’s about it. With plenty of time left until Season 2 of Apex Legends, there will no doubt be many more adjustments down the line.

Are giant spiders coming to Apex Legends? Leaks, rumors and more – Dexerto
Are giant spiders coming to Apex Legends? Leaks, rumors and more Although this may sound like a far-fetched theory, there is some evidence stacking up that some form of giant spiders could be making their way to Kings Canyon in Apex Legends – with the latest hint from Respawn Entertainment themselves. The launch of Season 2: Battle Charge added the first wildlife to Kings Canyon, with the pesky ‘flyers’ and large leviathans taking over. However, if various leaks and hints are to be believed, the animal kingdom in the popular battle royale could be about to expand. Here’s all the evidence we have so far to suggest some spider-like monsters are coming to Apex Legends. Data-mined Spider sounds The first hint that some form of arachnid could be added to Apex Legends came from data miner @That1MiningGuy, who uncovered some sound files that sound very much like spiders. The file is also named ‘AB_MIST_SPIDERS’, so it’s clearly no coincidence. Spider Sound Effects for Apex pic.twitter.com/WFrJd3xCCs — That1MiningGuy (@That1MiningGuy) July 12, 2019 Caustic’s lore from Respawn On July 17, Respawn released new lore for one of the legends, Caustic this time, and fans have noticed that there are even more clues pointing to some large, eight-legged creatures. It turns out that Caustic’s lethal gas is actually made from the poison from ‘Scarabaeidae Arachnia’ – “a large forest-dwelling spider.“ Halloween theme for Apex Legends Season 3? Still not convinced? Well next we might even have an indication of when these spiders might attack. Apex Legends’ current season is set to end around the start of October – perfect timing for a Halloween theme in Season 3. In fact, leaked cosmetics also heavily suggest that a spooky, insect and flesh themed style will be coming to Apex at some point, and a Halloween event of some kind would seem most suitable. These three textures were found by data miners, and are set to be used on various upcoming skins: In fact, data miner @That1MiningGuy also found a promotional image which has not yet been shown in-game, depicting both Wraith and Caustic wearing this new design on a skin. Prowlers coming to Apex Legends? No, we don’t mean the five-round burst SMG – prowlers were a nasty kind of monster from Titanfall 2, and leaked files suggest they could be making a comeback in Apex Legends too. Prowlers aren’t quite spiders, as they are only quadrupeds, but their addition would make spiders all the more likely. As well as the sound files for the prowlers, an image of their ‘nest’ was also data-mined. Now that the new Legion is out… found this in the MU1 Canyonlands File (current map) It’s a prowler nest… pic.twitter.com/ToucYiB5gD — That1MiningGuy (@That1MiningGuy) July 18, 2019 For now, this is most of the evidence we have to support the theory that spiders – and possibly some other monstrous creatures – are coming to Kings Canyon. However, it might be some time before we actually see them in game, most likely not until Season 3, when a new Halloween theme or event is expected.

Apex Legends: Genius Wattson trap trick will claim easy eliminations – Dexerto
Apex Legends: Genius Wattson trap trick will claim easy eliminations RespawnApex Legend season two may only be a few days old, yet players are already uncovering genius ways to use Wattson’s electric trap. The highly-anticipated season two of Apex Legends was finally released by Respawn Entertainment on July 2 – adding a ton of new content to the game, as well as a brand new legend. After months of speculation, Wattson finally joined the Kings Canyon cast as the newest legend. The electrical genius has already left many a player frustrated with her electric traps but one player may have just found the best use for them moving forward. In a post to the Apex Legends subreddit, user GamingBasicTV, pointed out that these electric fences can be erected behind closed doors to spring a trap on unsuspecting players. While that may not be new information for every player, it’s clearly a helpful tip for anyone who has yet to dive into the world of season two. The Redditor also noted they had already been experimenting with maximizing the traps potential, showing that players can create a criss-cross like field that will trap enemy players who try to burst through. As the traps don’t give off any sort of signal that they’re there, it’s an almost perfect way to catch unaware players in your grasp. It immediately took the fancy of many Apex players on the subreddit – with the post receiving a few compliments. “Wow cool. I’m used to seeing people never use them or put them in an open field,” commented one user. Of course, not everybody was sold on the tactic and pointed out that it may need a few tweaks. One such comment from JesterOfGames stated: “I mean that is smart but impractical.” It remains to be seen just how many players pick up on GamingBasicTV’s tactic, and just how many will adapt it to make it their own. With season two barely in its infancy, there are sure to be more tips and tricks related to the new legend before Respawn makes any sort of sweeping changes.

Genius Horizon ultimate trick is perfect to bamboozle enemies in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Genius Horizon ultimate trick is perfect to bamboozle enemies in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentA simple Apex Legends trick can give Horizon players a perfect way to bamboozle opponents in the battle royale with a clever use of her ultimate. Ever since Horizon joined the Apex Games at the start of Season 7, people have enjoyed limit-testing her abilities to see how they can outwit the competition. Since her release, the Gravitational Manipulator has been praised for her unique mobility among the cast of characters. People can rely on Horizon to get them out of bad situations. And now, some people are even discovering how deceptive she can be with alternate uses for her ult. Reddit user ‘i3lackpink’ found an interesting way to use the Black Hole ultimate to give Horizon and her team additional cover on the battlefield. “Hide in the lightning effects,” they suggested. “Black Hole is loud. Good for popping heals and even [reviving a teammate].” By nestling into a friendly Black Hole ult, players can use the ability’s effects for a bit of cover should they find themselves in a pinch. This trick can easily fool opponents since they likely won’t expect there to be a player at the center of the Black Hole. Moreover, the device that creates the ultimate can take 175 points of damage, making it a perfect barrier to pop heals, shields, and even a Phoenix kit, i3lackpink said. Respawn Entertainment’s genre-defining BR lets players choose a unique Legend with a set toolkit of abilities. But the Apex community routinely finds ways to stretch the bounds of what characters can do to tailor the experience to their needs. As more people catch on to Horizon’s tricks, we’ll see how these tactics evolve with one of the more popular picks in Apex Legends.

Genius Crypto Passive idea lets him hack & take control of objects in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Genius Crypto Passive idea lets him hack & take control of objects in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentA new Passive idea for Crypto allows the Surveillance Expert to hack into Tridents, Gravity Cannons, Phase Runners, and doors to disrupt enemies and open up opportunities for his squad. Since arriving in Apex Legends all the way back in Season 3, Crypto has never managed to retain a high pick rate, leaving him at the bottom of the roster when it comes to popularity. Hoping to change this, Respawn implemented a mini-rework for the Surveillance Expert in Season 12, giving him enhanced control of his drone and providing him with game state information while using the device. Despite these changes, Crypto has the lowest pick rate in the Outlands once again in Season 13, and players are desperate for devs to make more changes. One suggestion revolves around making his Passive more interactive and allowing him to hack into devices and objects around each of the maps. Crypto Passive rework allows him to hack into objects In a concept posted to the Apex subreddit, user GooComedian has put forward a Crypto Passive that allows the Surveillance Expert to take control of map features by hacking into them. Aiming to replace Neurolink and make his kit more interactive, the new ability would give Crypto the ability to hack into Gravity Cannons and Phase Runners, disabling them for enemy teams. Not only that, but the concept also allows him to control vehicles remotely with his drone, giving him opportunities to cause distractions and set up advantageous gunfights. Finally, GooComedian wants to give Crypto the ability to lock doors using his drone, slowing opposing teams down and potentially funneling them through specific entrances. While this concept is getting a lot of praise, it is incredibly complex for a Passive, and Respawn usually prefers to keep them simple where possible. A solution for this could be giving Crypto a select few elements of GooComedian’s idea, or even adding the ability to control vehicles alongside his current Neurolink Passive. However, as the Surveillance Expert recently received a lot of attention, it’s unlikely that the devs are going to make buffing him a priority any time soon.

Genius Ash combo lets Valkyrie fly Apex Legends teammates across the entire map – Dexerto
Genius Ash combo lets Valkyrie fly Apex Legends teammates across the entire map Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have discovered a genius Ash x Valkyrie combo that turns the Winged Avenger’s ultimate, Skyward Dive, into one of the strongest repositioning tools in the battle royale — and it works on any map. Mobility is king in Apex Legends, so it’s no surprise popular characters with powerful movement abilities like Wraith, Octane, Valkyrie, and Ash reign supreme. With the battle royale storm circle always closing in on your position, whether you’re fighting across Kings Canyon, Olympus, or Storm Point, finding the best way to get the next defensive position — and avoid any kill-hungry enemies along the way — is a pretty major gameplay loop in Apex Legends. For the last two years, players have been trying to find ways to trick or cheese their way through the process. Respawn helped a little after adding flight pilot Valkyrie and her flying ultimate, but it’s often a question that stumps players. Recently, however, Apex Legends genius UnholyBeast may have solved the age-old battle royale question, all thanks to an incredible Valkyrie x Ash ultimate combo. The Apex Legends trick itself is devilishly simple in design. The hardest part is convincing random teammates to pick either Ash or Valkyrie (you obviously pick the other), so maybe it’s easier to bring a friend if you’re planning to pull off this high-flying strategy in your ranked games. Once you have your hands on both Legends, all you need to do is find the map’s tallest building. In World’s Edge, the options are Fragment’s skyscrapers or the Skyhook buildings. On Storm Point, the Storm Catcher is a great spot, and on Kings Canyon, you can make do with the rocks near Market. First, fire off Ash’s Phase Breach to the top of the building, and then launch Valkyrie’s Skyward Dive before the “out of bounds” timer clocks out. This should get you a considerable amount higher than normal. Once you’re in the air, the hard work is done — just simply cruise to any location on the map like you usually would with Valkyrie’s ultimate, and prepare for battle. The genius new Apex Legends combo may not have everything to do with it, but Valkyrie has actually been trending up play-rate rise in the past week or so. The Winged Avenger has moved into the top six most played characters, overtaking Lifeline in the process. While she moves up, however, Ash has been dropping; the Season 12 release has slipped a mighty 16.4% in the standings, and now sits behind Wraith and Octane again. If this cheeky repositioning trick hits Apex Legends mainstream, those numbers could certainly turn around for the Incisive Instigator as the season rolls on.

Genius Apex Legends trick lets you see through Bangalore’s smoke – Dexerto
Genius Apex Legends trick lets you see through Bangalore’s smoke Respawn EntertainmentA brilliant new strategy for Caustic, which allows him to see through Bangalore’s smoke, is blowing people away with how simple and effective it is. Caustic’s gas traps are one of the most infamous abilities in Apex Legends, and they’ve been trapping the game’s more unfortunate players since the early days on King’s Canyon. However, Reddit user xxGURIxx has posted a clip that shows the ability is extremely effective at revealing enemies, even when they should be hidden by Bangalore’s smoke. Typically, you’re unable to see other players through Bangalore’s smoke. Similar to CSGO, enemies shouldn’t be visible while they’re behind the smokescreen – but Caustic is able to change that. His gas traps, which still give some players flashbacks to the bunker on King’s Canyon, seem to highlight enemies while they should be invisible rendered invisible by the fog. The clip starts out the way most fights with Bangalore do – with her dropping smoke to cover her tracks, but GURI wasn’t going to be beaten so easily. Tapping into their 500 Apex IQ, they threw down Caustic’s traps inside of the smoke field, and with the gas working like a poor man’s thermal site, the enemy players light right up. Of course, you have to make Caustic’s traps available to use when you encounter a Bangalore for this to work, so be sure not to rush into a firefight with the ability on cooldown. It’s unknown whether this is an intended effect or not, though; the legend’s gas does usually recolor players a sickly green-yellow, which seems to ignore the smoke effects. Whether or not it’s intended or not, the effect is definitely in the game. So, if you happen to have Caustic unlocked, it’s worth giving a shot if you find yourself up against an enemy Bangalore. Caustic is both loved and hated by players for what his gas traps are capable of, and this brilliantly simple strategy will only add to that.

Genius Apex Legends trick lets you cancel Lifeline’s revive – Dexerto
Genius Apex Legends trick lets you cancel Lifeline’s revive Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer UQowmNq2]A useful Apex Legends trick has surfaced which allows players to cancel Lifeline’s Combat Revive passive ability if she attempts to heal a downed enemy. Apex Legends is full of handy tricks to help you get through the chaos that ensues in the Apex Games. After all, one-upping your opponent can be the difference between life and death in most situations. Whether it be tweaking the Selectfire Hop-Up to store the Havoc’s charge or cutting the reload time in half for weapons, there’s plenty of nifty tips that players can use to their advantage. Although, Apex’s resident healer also has a few tricks up her sleeve. Players might already know that equipping a Guardian Angel backpack while healing a teammate will instantly heal their allies, but there’s also a nifty way to counter that. How to cancel Lifeline’s Combat Revive Now that Lifeline’s D.O.C. drone does all of the hard yards for the Combat Medic, the Support Legend can get into the thick of the fight while her teammate is automatically revived. Although, Lifeline’s healing drone can be easily countered during the revive animation, after an eagle-eyed player spotted a clever trick. Essentially, players can just shoot the D.O.C. drone to completely cancel the entire revive, leaving downed opponents completely exposed. While this sounds completely straightforward on the surface, most players wouldn’t think to do this, as they’d be too involved with trying to finish off the kill. But in situations where the drone is the only part exposed, this can be extremely useful. Not only will it cancel the revive animation, but it will also bring down Lifeline’s shield — leaving the downed foe completely vulnerable to the elements. Of course, this is an entirely situational play, but is a useful piece of information to have on tap and could prime players to make a high-tier play in the most difficult of circumstances.

Genius Apex Legends trick lets Revenant hide with Silence ability – Dexerto
Genius Apex Legends trick lets Revenant hide with Silence ability Respawn/EA[jwplayer WxboviTo]Revenant mains have got a clever tip that allows them to use the Silence tactical to hide from enemies in Apex Legends rather than affecting their abilities. When Revenant was introduced to Apex Legends back in Season 4, players were greeted with a terrifying figure who had the potential to become a devastating enemy to face. Though, that hasn’t happened. While the Synthetic Nightmare is a familiar sight around World’s Edge and Kings Canyon, he hasn’t quite hit the heights of a Wraith or Pathfinder. However, that hasn’t stopped his loyal fans from figuring out the best ways to play as him. That includes being able to use his own abilities to hide amongst the shadows while enemies scurry around to find him. The clever tip comes from Redditor Haggald, who showed that you can utilize the Silence tactical ability almost like a smoke grenade. That’s right, instead of firing it off and annoying an enemy, you can bamboozle them with the quietness. As Haggald shows, if you fire the ability off and then crouch underneath in a confined spot, enemies can lose track of you. That makes the tip pretty perfect if you need to heal or while contesting a close late zone. Though, it won’t guarantee you easy flanking kills. As the Redditor found out, you might be able to sneak up on one enemy but if their teammate is following close behind, it could be the end of days for Revenant. Of course, the trick is a bit of a situational one as you will need distance between yourself and the enemies and also you’ll have to have the confined space needed to hide. Yet, if things work out in your favor, enemies might end up running around chasing their tail and completely ignore your hiding spot. It’s pretty genius when it works.

Genius Apex Legends Titans transport idea would be perfect for Season 14 – Dexerto
Genius Apex Legends Titans transport idea would be perfect for Season 14 Respawn EntertainmentCreative Apex Legends players have proposed a unique way to integrate Titanfall’s eponymous Titans, creating a new movement mechanic to explore all of the battle royale’s environments. The inspiration Apex Legends has taken from the preceding Titanfall series has led to many fans of EA’s futuristic shooter making their way over to the battle royale. We’ve seen weapons, equipment, and more from Titanfall added to Apex Legends but, as of Season 13, there have been no Titans integrated. The large mech-style robots are a crucial element to the Titanfall universe, but much discussion has surrounded how they could ever fit into the world of the Apex Games. Now, one player has shared a creative solution. In a June 11 Reddit post, player ‘KankaOne‘ proposed using the Titans as movement-based objects that players could visit and be thrown in the direction they are facing. As a result, they would be comparable to Gravity Cannons, Tridents, and Jump Towers, allowing players to traverse the map rapidly and reposition effectively. They said: “Would love to see Titans on the map which yeet you in the direction you are aiming. An alternative way to travel next to Jump Towers, Gravity Cannons and Tridents.” Plenty echoed the suggestion, with one adding that apt voice lines could accompany the Titan actions, like “brace for impact”. At the time of writing, the suggestion has over 4,300 upvotes, suggesting a significant number of players think it’s a valid and creative suggestion. Respawn have frequently expressed their commitment to include community ideas if and when they are appropriate. They’re yet to fully comment on whether Titans will be added to Apex Legends but, if they come, we can’t think of many better ideas than this.

Genius Apex Legends tip activates Crypto’s drone instantly – Dexerto
Genius Apex Legends tip activates Crypto’s drone instantly Respawn/EA[jwplayer N00PrGvg]Apex Legends players have got a clever trick that lets them use Crypto’s drone immediately and without the need to pilot it up into the sky. Ever since Crypto was introduced back in season three, Apex Legends fans have been finding new ways to use the legend. It helps that the Surveillance Expert is pretty perfect for a number of playstyles as well. You can easily be offensive with his EMP Ultimate as well as being able to sit back and scout ahead with his drone. Despite making a whirring noise and having a glowing outline that makes it visible to enemies, the drone is incredibly useful throughout the game until the final few zones. The time it takes to load up when you’re down to the final few squads can be the difference between a win and a loss. Though, some players have got a neat trick that allows you to use it instantly without needing to sit through the small loading screen. The genius tip was pointed out by Reddit user BlackJack0816, who noted that you can ‘drop’ Crypto’s drone in the blink of an eye and forego the whole loading screen by holding down the tactical button. That’s right if you simply hold down the button you use to summon the drone – instead of just tapping it – the tactical ability deploy in front of you. The drone will just appear in hover mode and you’ll have the usual onscreen prompt to take control of it. You don’t have to start piloting the drone, though, you can just leave it where it is to act as a camera. Comment byu/AsymmetricSquid from discussion inapexuniversity Obviously, though, you can enter the pilot mode and take the drone to the skies to get a better look at things from above. Will the clever tip attract more players to use Crypto over legends like Wraith and Pathfinder? Maybe not, but it does add another string to the bow of Crypto mains – if they didn’t know about it, of course.

Genius Apex Legends pro Lifeline rework idea steals ability from Gibraltar – Dexerto
Genius Apex Legends pro Lifeline rework idea steals ability from Gibraltar Respawn/EACloud9 Apex Legends pro Jamison ‘PVPX’ Moore was left wondering why Gibraltar has an ability that would better suit Lifeline, and it turns out some players want a change. With each Apex Legends character having their own unique set of abilities, it’s not uncommon to see fans and players chime in with their own suggestions for change. Over the last few years, players have thrown out countless amounts of ideas for changes, and Respawn have taken plenty of feedback on board. Though they can’t outright copy every good suggestion, the devs have been able to twist some of them a little bit so that they work in-game. Sometimes though, the suggestions aren’t for something completely new, but rather why one legend has an ability that would better suit a different character – and that includes both Gibraltar and Lifeline. While some players have pondered the ability swap before, Cloud9’s PVPX highlighted the fact that Gibraltar is able to quickly pick teammates back up and Lifeline is not – despite being a healing support character. “Why does the left character have fast revive and the right character does not?” he asked, and it didn’t take long for fans to agree that a change could be made. “Just give Lifeline her fast manual res with shield plus 25% faster healing,” suggested one player. “They HAVE to rework Lifeline. The whole idea with the combat res(?) just doesn’t work, it was op now its wayyy too situational but most of the time, useless,” added another. Why does the left character have fast revive and the right character does not pic.twitter.com/fSVvoZnXWb — FURIA Jxmo (@Jxmo_1) March 17, 2022 Other players claimed that giving Lifeline a quicker revive would maybe make her a little too overpowered, seeing as she is already able to revive two teammates at once. “Gibraltar uses a tactical with a cooldown and Lifeline uses a passive with no cooldown. Having back-to-back fast revives is too strong,” said one. “If she did have fast revive, everyone would cry about it,” added another. While the swap would make sense for Lifeline’s persona, only Respawn can make the call on that front, and it would take some balancing. So, don’t expect a change anytime soon.

Genius Apex Legends players get ultimate revenge on DDoSer’s ruining matches – Dexerto
Genius Apex Legends players get ultimate revenge on DDoSer’s ruining matches Respawn EntertainmentAfter reconnecting to a DDoSed Apex Legends lobby, a set of players decided to lay a trap for the cheater and make sure they got their revenge. Although Respawn Entertainment has been implementing updates to fight back against DDoSers in Apex Legends, it’s still a huge problem in Ranked play. Cheaters are using the exploit to disconnect every single player from the map, allowing them to reconnect and pick up the win with no competition. While players can to get back into a match after it’s been DDoSed, it’s incredibly inconsistent and it’s rarely worth it. More often than not, you’ll already be dead or too far outside the ring to get back into the fight. Well, against all odds, a set of Apex players managed to get back into their DDoSed game lobby and laid the perfect trap to takedown the cheater. Apex Legends players outsmart DDoSer and get revenge A thread posted to the Apex Legends subreddit showing a set of players taking down a DDoSer has garnered over 3,300 upvotes at the time of writing. After being kicked from a match by a DDoSer, GoldCoaster4Cx and their squad managed to reconnect and decided they wanted revenge. Knowing the cheater would be running around killing all of the disconnected players, the group decided to stand completely still and pretend to be AFK. The DDoSer, who was playing Bloodhound, scanned the group and assumed it was just another easy three kills to add to their stats. Unfortunately for them, GoldCoaster4Cx’s squad had other plans and one hit the cheater as soon as they walked into the room. The clip is incredibly satisfying to watch and without the group’s quick thinking to pretend to be AFK, it’s unlikely they would have been able to get their revenge. It’s a shame that players still have to deal with these exploits, but with Respawn threatening to take legal action and promising more updates to address the issue, the community is hopeful that DDoS attacks will slowly become less and less of a problem.

Genius Apex Legends player clutches a win by stuffing his enemies in a cannon – Dexerto
Genius Apex Legends player clutches a win by stuffing his enemies in a cannon Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players continue to find new ways to win, with this play making use of Storm Point’s Gravity Cannons. Storm Point was introduced to Apex Legends‘ map pool in Season 11, with Respawn Entertainment taking players to the lush jungles of Gaea. With Storm Point, Respawn went in a different direction. Instead of the conventional jump towers scattered around the map, players had to make use of the Gravity Cannons to cross large areas of the map. A duo of Apex Legends players took full advantage of the Gravity Cannons’ launch power with an elaborate trap that ended with a massive win. Apex Legends squad outplays final team with Wraith portal In a short clip shared to the Apex Legends subreddit, BeanBag373_ demonstrated an ingenious strategy: Running a duo of Wraith and Octane, the two-person squad baited the final team into confronting them. The final squad rolled up, guns blazing, but were unaware of the Wraith portal that awaited them. Entering the Dimensional Rift, it turns out BeanBag and company laid an elaborate trap that would force the final squad to take the Gravity Cannon. What happened next is exactly what you’d expect — the opposing squad landed in the Gravity Cannon and was launched deep into the storm. BeanBag’s squad emerged victorious, and the game chat was ablaze with joy. Viewers loved what they saw, with plenty of praise welcoming the return of the king since BeanBag is Apex Legends subreddit legend, with dozens of trap plays and funny moments to show for it. Funnily enough, the video reached the enemy team, with one of the players commenting: “You S.O.B that was me as that Bangalore!!” While it may seem like a simple outplay, it was all a part of an elaborate scheme. BeanBag spent 500 days assembling this plan, with a YouTube video to document their journey to this very moment, and it’s beautifully cinematic. 500 days after Storm Point hit Apex Legends, BeanBag finally achieved their dream moment. Kudos to them, and be wary of any lingering Wraith portals in your matches; it might signal your untimely end.

Genius Apex Legends Mirage strategy can throw your enemy for a loop – Dexerto
Genius Apex Legends Mirage strategy can throw your enemy for a loop Respawn EntertainmentYour enemies will be left scratching their heads if you’re able to execute this genius Mirage tactic in your next Apex Legends match. While he may be Respawn Entertainment’s resident trickster in Apex Legends, Mirage has often been highlighted as one of the least impactful characters in the game due to a somewhat underwhelming arsenal of abilities. Able to turn invisible and leave a number of clones nearby, Mirage hasn’t quite been able to confuse enemies since the game first launched as players have mostly grown accustomed to his tricks over time. However, this new Mirage strategy could be just what you need to get the edge in your next match. Mirage’s Ultimate, Vanishing Act, sends out a ring of decoys while the Legend himself becomes fully cloaked for five-seconds in order to evade the opposition. Typically, players utilize every second of the ability to get out of hot water. However, in the final moments of a match on March 23, Reddit user ‘Forexz’ showcased how the trickster can genuinely leave his opponents bamboozled with the perfect timing and strategy. Rather than activating the ability and rushing away from enemies in hot pursuit, they triggered the Ultimate and immediately canceled the invisibility. Standing still while the enemy Pathfinder assessed the circle of decoys, they found the perfect moment to knock their opponent down when they least expected it. Even going as far as to embarrass the Pathfinder with a finishing move, this handy trick gave Mirage all the freedom in the world to get the jump on their opponent and catch them by surprise. Triggering the head-scratching play out in the open, this highlight-worthy strategy could be utilized in any setting to bamboozle enemies. “I have 18k on mirage and never thought of doing this,” Reddit user ‘MartianPenguin’ responded upon seeing the impressive play. “Glad I learned something just when I thought I learned it all.” The next time that you have a Mirage Ultimate at the ready, rather than trying to flee from the hotspot, think back on this clever tactic and try to confuse your opponents by standing still amidst your decoys. While it might not prove beneficial every time, this strategy could provide Mirage players with a steady edge over the competition.

Genius Apex Legends idea would greatly improve the badge gallery – Dexerto
Genius Apex Legends idea would greatly improve the badge gallery Respawn EntertainmentSeason 7 of Apex Legends is well underway, and players continue to explore Olympus and perfect their Horizon playstyles. Despite Respawn making many changes in the new season, people still have their own ideas on how the game can be improved – specifically the badge selection screen. [jwplayer A8oCoIXs] The seventh season of Apex Legends, Ascension, kicked off to an exciting start. With the addition of a new map, Legend, and the game’s first vehicle, Respawn provided players with plenty of content to enjoy. With EA announcing that Apex Legends is on track to become a billion-dollar franchise, and confirming the launch of Season 7 as the biggest in the game’s history, the battle royale continues to be a major success. However, the success of Apex has not come without issues. Players recently took to social media and voiced their frustration with slow battle pass progression, and Respawn quickly updated the battle pass system due to the backlash. In addition to feedback on in-game issues, the community has also suggested ways that can improve player experience within the menus. Potential changes to the badge selector? While many issues reported by players directly affect gameplay, other complaints are focused on the menus within Apex Legends. In a Reddit post, user ‘u/Speedy_Von_Gofast’ suggested some ways that Respawn can improve the badge selection process. In the upload, which at the time of writing has been upvoted more than 13k times, Speedy_Von_Gofast suggests several changes to improve the player experiencing when customizing characters with different badges. The first suggestion is to separate badges by categories. In a mockup of the new format shared in the post, badges have been separated into various categories like account, seasonal, and ranked. The post also suggests the actual badge icons be reduced in size, to allow for viewing more options in the menu at once. Finally, it recommends a feature that would allow players to filter out any badges they have not unlocked. This would further reduce visual clutter and help players avoid seeing locked items, if they so choose. This post has seen plenty of support from other community members. With many positive responses, it seems that most players agree with the suggested changes, which could potentially be made to other customization categories if the support from the community is strong enough. Will Respawn make changes? At the time of writing, Respawn has yet to respond to this particular thread. It remains to be seen whether or not the developer will address this feedback from the community. Although the matter of badge selection does not impact gameplay like audio bugs or Legend balancing, character customization is a key part of the Apex Legends experience. In a game with so many unlockable skins, trackers, and badges for each of the 15 Legends, player feedback on character customization is certainly something the devs will consider. The developer has made changes to the appearance of the game’s menus in the past, so these suggestions are not out of the question. Players should keep an eye on the thread for any official updates.

Genius Apex Legends idea sorts characters into more unique classes – Dexerto
Genius Apex Legends idea sorts characters into more unique classes Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends community is always vocal about Legend balancing, and a post on the battle royale’s subreddit provides some ideas on how the current character classes can be improved in the future. Apex Legends continues to dominate the battle royal genre alongside other giants like Warzone and Fortnite. The fundamental design of Respawn’s BR provides players with an experience that can’t be found in similar titles. Unlike other BRs where a player’s character is just a visual preference, each Legend created by Respawn has a unique set of abilities that sets them apart from other characters. This system means the developer is constantly tweaking the game’s characters with buffs or nerfs. The Apex community is passionate about their favorite characters, and are always providing Respawn with feedback on balancing the game’s Legends. A post by ‘sizzle_burn’ on r/ApexLegends suggests Respawn should take the current character classes in a totally new direction. Since the game’s release, each Legend has been sorted into one of four classes: Offensive, Defensive, Support, and Recon. While each of these options has a unique description for its characters, the classes themselves do not affect the game’s characters in a very meaningful way. In their post, sizzle_bum breaks down the current system and reorganizes each Legend into one of five new classes: Assault, Runner, Recon, Support, or Pioneer. These new designations help to organize each Legend into a specific role that better suits their unique abilities. For example, instead of Gibraltar being classified as a Defensive character, in the new system he would be a Support Legend. The updated Support Legends are meant to keep their squad alive with healing or equipment, meaning Gibraltar fits right in with his dome shield. Each of the five new classes leans more into character abilities instead of a general playstyle when breaking down each Legend. According to sizzle_bum, this new system was developed because “the current classifications do not accurately reflect the Legends’ capabilities.” They point out how terms like Offensive and Defensive are better for describing a playstyle instead of a character’s abilities. The current system also has more Offensive Legends than any other class, and this reorganization would provide players with more class variety to choose from. The developer has not responded to the post which has been upvoted more than 22k times at the time of writing. Respawn has touched on Legend balancing many times before, and may respond when their team returns after the holidays.

Genius Apex Legends idea adds Call of Duty’s prestige system & rewards – Dexerto
Genius Apex Legends idea adds Call of Duty’s prestige system & rewards Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling on Respawn to add a Prestige system similar to that of the Call of Duty series, with the concept even helping to diminish the problem of overpriced skins in the battle royale title. Despite the overwhelming popularity of Apex Legends since its early 2019 launch, two features that have been hot topics for the community are the price of cosmetics and the levelling-up of players. On the former, there have been fairly frequent criticisms from the player side, with many suggesting the best skins are too expensive. Those criticisms have been amplified in recent weeks, after a Prestige Bloodhound skin was revealed to only be available on collection of all 24 event cosmetics – costing roughly $164. On the latter, concerns have been raised over the level-capping in Apex Legends, and how it could discourage experienced players from investing more time. A new Prestige concept, though, would solve both issues. The idea comes by way of ‘Woogz_‘ on Reddit, who shared it to the game’s subreddit on February 11. Titled “What the level system could have been like,” it shows a player reaching Level 1,000 in-game and being rewarded with a prestige. The prestige resets their level to 1, as well as giving them the choice of a prestige skin as a reward. The full in-game message reads: “Reaching max level 1,000 will increase your prestige level and reset your level back to 1. Every time your prestige level increases, you can unlock a single prestige skin of your chosen legend.” The post received largely positive feedback on the game’s subreddit, sitting at over 3,000 upvotes at the time of writing. Many liked the idea, seeing it as encouraging veteran players to keep playing, as well as ensuring the Prestige skins do not come at an extortionately high cost. Respawn are known to take community feedback on board, but such a system could take a lot of implementation and fly in the face of some of their plans. For now, drop into Season 12 and enjoy all the new content it has brought.
