  • Apex Legends fans want Ghost Legend concept to haunt Season 15 – Dexerto

Apex Legends fans want Ghost Legend concept to haunt Season 15 Reddit: u/Barkhardt / Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legend fan created in-depth concept art for a new Legend called Ghost, which has captured the community’s attention. The fanbase surrounding Apex Legends regularly thinks up concepts meant to improve or enhance the battle royale. Whether through character buff ideas or brand new Legends themselves, the Apex community has no shortage of potential ideas for the game. Now, one Apex fan spawned some creative discussion after sharing an impressive concept for a new Ghost Legend, complete with concept art and a move set. Apex Legends player shares Ghost Legend concept The Legend concept comes from user Barkhardt on the Apex Legends subreddit, who began creating Legend content for fun as well as to inspire others to brainstorm ideas of their own. The Legend, called Ghost, seems to share some relation to Wraith and would utilize a mix of Phase and Void technology to safeguard allies and confuse opponents. Ghost’s abilities include a Tactical called “Mind over Matter,” which would create a small “phase zone” where players inside would receive and output 50% less damage. Ghost’s Passive allows bullets to pass through her, while she takes 10% less damage overall. Finally, Ghost’s Ultimate, “Void Gate,” would create a rift bubble centered around her, where anyone within the bubble is transported to “the Void.” Barkhardt ended his post by calling on the community for feedback on the concept, which many fans provided. “Very awesome. Only concern I have is that the 10% damage reduction passive seems a bit strong,” suggested user FreeFoot_. Other fans joined in and pitched ideas for heirlooms, like KoalaKarity who said “…Here is a very little idea about the Heirloom: it could be [a] cube, fragmented into different parts…and could be used as a melee weapon.” While it’s incredibly unlikely Ghost will ever make her way into Apex Legends, it is always cool to see fans flex their creativity to bring interesting ideas to life.

  • Fans claim Apex Legends is “choosing to die” with repetitive events and limited content – Dexerto

Fans claim Apex Legends is “choosing to die” with repetitive events and limited content Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players claim the battle royale is “choosing to die” thanks to expensive events, repetitive content, and many more problems. After nearly five years, Apex Legends is on Season 19. Despite its age, plenty of players still flock to the battle royale thanks to its unique movement and continuous updates. While the game has certainly had its fluctuations, the game has seen a steady dip in concurrent players during the last few months of 2023, according to SteamCharts.com. Members of the community have also voiced their frustration with the state of the game, with some claiming the battle royale is “choosing to die” thanks to the content as of late. Apex Legends fans claim game is “choosing to die” A post on the Apex Legends subreddit titled, “This Game is choosing to die,” sparked a discussion among members of the community. In the thread, the OP laid out the reasons why they feel the content has not been engaging for the past “2-3 months” and noted that they’d taken an extensive break from the game because of that. “This game is so great, almost perfect in the execution of its gameplay,” they said. However, they continued: “Yet somehow the powers that be choose to drip-feed us content as they pump out $200 collection event after $200 collection event…” The fan also cited poor skill-based matchmaking and lack of meaningful content as reasons the game is not holding player’s attention like it once was. Many agreed that they were less enthusiastic about Apex, with many claiming they’ve made the switch to newer games. “Yep switched to The Finals and haven’t looked back,” said one player, while another said, “The Finals is calling…” However, some players claimed that they’ve still been enjoying the battle royale from a “casual” perspective. “As a casual player (e.g. weekend warrior) I’m having a blast,” one fan explained and laid out reasons why they still enjoy playing. With Apex Legends being around for as long as it has been, it’s certainly natural for players to feel burnt out. Hopefully, Respawn Entertainment and EA can continue to find ways to innovate on the tried and true battle royale going into 2024.

  • Fan-made Apex Legends anime intro looks incredible and Respawn dev agrees – Dexerto

Fan-made Apex Legends anime intro looks incredible and Respawn dev agrees David Production / Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends community has been hyped for Season 8’s launch, and an opening sequence with a classic anime twist is exactly what players will need to get amped for the next chapter of the battle royale. Using the sounds of Fire Force’s Season 2 opening, YouTuber ‘TiesvanderTies’ stitched together some of the most epic moments to come out of Respawn Entertainments’ studio throughout the years. The trailer involves a ton of attention to detail considering how anime openings typically give the audience a general overlook of the main characters involved as well as a cursory glance at smaller sequences of action that we can expect. In perfect stride, TiesvanderTies showed how Season 8 would translate to an anime, ultimately building up to the latest character release for Apex, Fuse. “I was going for making [all Apex Legends characters] about as important with Revenant as an antihero with a long-standing arc,” TiesvanderTies said of the compilation that definitely sets up the Synthetic Nightmare as the ‘anime’ antagonist. This is the exact kind of content we have come to expect from the Apex community who have shown to blend their favorite moments in the game with a bit of flair. Since being published online, the sequence has over 13k upvotes on Reddit and a nod of appreciation from a Respawn rep who came across the meticulously made feature video. Read more: Apex Legends Season 8 early patch notes – “Not gonna lie, but I really like this,” Senior Respawn Tech Artist, Mike Cook, said of the creation. Throughout the years, the devs have been known to mix up their design direction on videos depending on which Legend is being featured, so an anime-styled content ‘trailer’ must be getting a lot of attention in the studio. In the past, we’ve seen these fan-made clips go to extreme lengths to properly pay respects to their subject. One of the most polished passion projects has to be the Bloodhound CGI short from 2020, showing the Technological Tracker hunting their prey in Apex Games. As Season 8 progresses, we can’t wait to see what else the Apex Legends fandom will create that are as clean as TiesvanderTies’ anime trailer.

  • Failed hacking of Apex Legends map may be biggest Crypto teaser yet – Dexerto

Failed hacking of Apex Legends map may be biggest Crypto teaser yet Respawn EntertainmentA massive new teaser has appeared in Apex Legends, further suggesting that the next playable character will be Crypto. With Season 3 in Apex Legends now on the horizon, players are looking more and more forward to which new Legend will be introduced in the popular battle royale. While nothing has been confirmed as of yet, most of the leaks and in-game hints have pointed to it being Crypto, whose abilities will mainly be focused around hacking. The latest Crypto teaser, which looks to be his biggest yet, went live in-game on September 13, featuring what many are believing was a failed hacking attempt of the Kings Canyon map. Read More: Apex devs respond to another sound glitch – It all began when players loaded into matches and found screens showing a loading bar, with no further context provided. Once the loading bar hit 100%, the Kings Canyon announcer’s voice began to distort, and an odd computer code began filling the large screens that hang from the canyons and hillsides. Read More: Apex Season 3 name & battle pass leaked – However, after a short while, the announcer’s voice became clear again, and the test ‘ATTEMPT FAILED’ appeared in large letters on those very same screens, indicating that whatever Crypto was up to, he wasn’t successful. While no one is certain what the writing in that computer text means, prominent data-miner ‘RealApexLeaks’ took a gander at coming up with some sort of translation. As for what the event as a whole means in terms of Crypto, it would be hard to deny that this was another major teaser for the new Legend, and the fact that the hacking attempt “failed” probably just means that it’s not time for him to emerge yet. There have, of course, been other leaks and teasers for him in the past, such as his laptop being found on the map, as well as a first look at his leaked Aerial Drone abilities. To find everything there is to know so far about the mysterious character, make sure to visit our main Crypto info hub.

  • F1 star Yuki Tsunoda admits he pulls 10-hour Apex Legends marathons – Dexerto

F1 star Yuki Tsunoda admits he pulls 10-hour Apex Legends marathons Respawn Entertainment / RedBullFormula One professional racer and Apex Legends fan Yuki Tsunoda confirmed in a recent interview he pulls 10-hour-long Apex marathons in his free time. It’s always cool to hear about celebrities and pro sports players talking about their love for video games, and a surprising number of celebs love the Apex Legends battle royale. Many fans probably know about American singer, songwriter, and wrapper Post Malone’s love for Apex, though some may have also heard of the F1 professional racer Yuki Tsunoda and his dedication to the BR. Now, in a recent interview, Tsunoda briefly spoke about his hobbies which included his 10-hour-long marathons in Apex Legends whenever he has the time to spare. F1 pro racer Yuki Tsunoda details Apex Legends habits In an interview segment with Channel4Sport, the F1 pro was asked if he had any hobbies. Tsunoda quickly answered with “online gaming.” When asked what kind of games he enjoys playing, Tsunoda spoke about Apex Legends and how he usually tries to play through some long sessions with friends. “For me, from 8:30 to like 6:30 PM. So I just have some snacks between 12 and 1.” The host was incredulous as he did the math, calling it a “10-hour game-a-thon.” Tsunoda seemed unconcerned with the amount of time and admitted that he usually just enjoys spending time online with his friends in Japan. The professional racer talked a bit about his childhood and said that when he was younger, his parents didn’t let him game for long periods. However, now that he’s on his own he can enjoy this new “freedom,” as he put it. It turns out Tsunoda is no slouch when it comes to Apex either, as evidenced by his play session with streamer and pro player iiTzTimmy in 2022. Clearly, those 10-hour gaming sessions have paid off.

  • F1 driver Yuki Tsunoda plays Apex Legends with iiTzTimmy on stream – Dexerto

F1 driver Yuki Tsunoda plays Apex Legends with iiTzTimmy on stream Respawn Entertainment / iiTzTimmy / Yuki TsunodaApex Legends content creator and former pro player iiTzTimmy has played the battle royale on stream with yet another celebrity: Professional Japanese F1 driver Yuki Tsunoda. Timmy ‘iiTzTimmy’ An has made a name for himself in the Apex Legends community not only for his incredibly impressive Pathfinder skills but for bringing mainstream celebrities on to play with him. In February of 2022, Timmy brought Post Malone on stream to squad up in Apex Legends after hearing the famous artist talk about his love for the game in interviews. Now, Timmy has brought on another celebrity – this time an international one – to play Apex Legends on stream: Professional Japanese F1 driver, Yuki Tsunoda. iiTzTimmy streams Apex Legends with Yuki Tsunoda The stream took place at 12:30 PST on both Timmy‘s Twitch channel and the ‘AlphaTauri‘ channel from Tsunoda’s perspective. After the two joined up, they went straight to the Firing Range to warm up with Tsunoda almost immediately suggesting they fight one-on-one. The duo each used the Flatline and Peacekeeper and Timmy was immediately impressed by Tsunoda’s skills saying “[w]ait this guy’s a gamer, hold up.” Much to his surprise, Tsunoda managed a clean victory over Timmy in their first fight, smoothly dodging Timmy’s PK shots and downing him with the Flatline. when @yukitsunoda07 downs @iiTzTimmy 👀 is it luck? we’re watching it live ➡️ https://t.co/Dgzw980Edh pic.twitter.com/cMiMbuoui7— Red Bull Gaming (@redbullgaming) June 23, 2022 Though Timmy picks up wins on the next few fights, Tsunoda holds his own very well, confirming earlier that he managed to reach Diamond rank before his F1 season training began. Following the warm-up the duo head into a match and easily secure a win after their first game on Olympus between banter about Tsunoda’s F1 career and Timmy’s thoughts on Apex. All in all, the stream made for great content. It’s always great to see content creators branch out to pull celebrities into their sphere, especially international ones like Tsunoda. Hopefully, iiTzTimmy continues to use his platform to introduce his audience to other cool personalities with a hobby for gaming like Tsunoda in the future.

  • Excellent Pathfinder Passive idea gives him the buff he needs in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Excellent Pathfinder Passive idea gives him the buff he needs in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has developed a simple Pathfinder Passive concept and the community is desperate for Respawn to add it to the game. When it comes to big outplays, there are very few Legends that can do it better than Pathfinder with his iconic Grapple Hook. The ability makes him one of the most mobile and fun characters to play on the entire roster, which explains why he’s currently sitting at an 8.8% pick rate. Despite this, since the update to Recon Legends, the Forward Scout’s Passive ability has been rendered useless and the community has been asking Respawn to address the issue for multiple seasons. Well, instead of waiting for the problem to be fixed, an Apex player has taken it upon themselves to develop a Passive concept and its simplicity has made it extremely popular. Pathfinder Passive concept gives his ziplines a huge buff Created by Apex Legends YouTuber bobz on the R5Reloaded server, the Passive is called ‘Happy Travels’ and is incredibly simple. The ability allows Pathfinder to use consumables such as Shield Batteries and Med Kits while using ziplines. Although this seems relatively insignificant at first, it actually gives his Ultimate a huge buff, especially when dipping in out of gunfights using ziplines. Not only that, it’s massively helpful while using Jump Towers to escape enemies, as you’d usually be forced to remain on low health while ascending up into the air. It’s safe to say the reaction to bobz’s concept from the community has been overwhelmingly positive with a lot of players praising the idea for its refreshing simplicity. This change wouldn’t skyrocket Pathfinder to the top of the meta, but it would give him an extra mechanic and provide him with a much-needed Passive ability. Fingers crossed Respawn takes notes and potentially even replicates bobz’s idea for the main game.

  • Excellent change to ping system suggested for Apex Legends Season 4 – Dexerto

Excellent change to ping system suggested for Apex Legends Season 4 A creative Apex Legends fan has devised a simple yet hugely effective change for the looting and pinging system, which would save players both time and energy. As with any battle royale, taking care of your inventory is crucial for success in Apex Legends. The innovative ‘ping’ feature was quickly borrowed by Fortnite, and it was one of the main points of praise when Apex first launched. However, there is still room for improvement, some players have argued. Now almost a full year since release, Apex has made plenty of improvements to looting, but this change could be the most impactful yet. Currently, when you have something in your inventory that you would like to ping for a teammate, you first have to drop it to the ground, ping, and then pick it up again. Clearly, in the heat of battle, this can waste precious time and make you vulnerable. So, one thoughtful player has suggested that simply allowing you to ping items from your backpack – without dropping them first. “Allow players to ping items directly from the inventory, without having to drop them on the ground,” the Reddit post explains, “this would allow you to continue to carry the items and only drop them if teammates need them.” As it’s such a simple idea, it’s peculiar that the developers themselves haven’t already implemented such a tool, unless there is a reason unknown to players. It would require another option in the menu, which could potentially be cumbersome, but is surely worth the trade-off for such an effective change to looting and inventory management. It would be especially beneficial to players on controller as opposed to keyboard and mouse, who already complain that their looting system is a lot less efficient. The community has been pouring out a variety of fresh ideas and quality of life changes for Apex Legends, with Season 4 right around the corner. Set to start on February 4 (the one-year anniversary of release), the fourth season could feature other player suggestions, such as this simple change to how banners work, as well as much-needed balancing tweaks.

  • Ex-TSM Apex Legends pro Albralelie replaces HisWattson on FURIA – Dexerto

Ex-TSM Apex Legends pro Albralelie replaces HisWattson on FURIA EAMac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith is back to top-level competitive play in Apex Legends, as he replaces the now-retired Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin on FURIA, ahead of the Last Chance Qualifier for 2023 ALGS Championship. After leaving TSM’s competitive roster in 2020, Albralelie has jumped around various lineups, including Liquid, Cloud9, and FaZe Clan. However, he hasn’t been on a settled roster throughout this period. With the retirement of HisWattson from pro play, immediately after FURIA’s dismal exit from the Split 2 Playoffs, a new opportunity has opened up for Albralelie, who joins the roster just in time for the LCQ. Given FURIA’s placing in playoffs, they failed to make the top 30 cut-off for instant Championship qualification. Instead, they will need to play through the LCQ starting on July 21. Albralelie joins FURIA Unlike many of his previous teams, Albralelie is not just a stand-in for FURIA, instead joining on a more permanent basis. FURIA announced the signing, explaining, “We’ve found our third for the LCQ and beyond. The newest addition to FURIA Apex, welcome Albralelie.” Much like the outgoing HisWattson, Albralelie is a popular personality in Apex, taking his time on the sidelines of competing to continue growing his stream, as a content creator for TSM. Alongside Nelson ‘Xeratricky’ Medina and Scott ‘Pandxrs’ Maynard, the squad will need to quickly find their feet together, as they face off against some very tricky competition in the LCQ, only days after Albralelie’s signing. Who is Albralelie? Competitive fans from the early days of Apex Legends will be all too familiar with Alb, who took home victory with TSM at the inaugural Apex Legends Preseason Invitational in 2019, the first major event hosted by EA and Respawn, with a $500,000 prize pool. This tournament cemented the reputations of the early TSM squad, which also featured ImperialHal and Reps, who remain with the org to this day. In a somewhat surprise announcement in October 2020, Albralelie announced his plans to quit Apex in favor of Valorant. But, only a few weeks later, he joined Team Liquid Apex as a stand-in. After a disappointing 17th-place finish at the 2021 ALGS Championship – NA, Albralelie suggested it may be his last tournament in Apex. However, further stand-in stints with C9 and FaZe followed. Now, with FURIA, Albralelie has another chance to prove he can still provide the firepower he made his name with.

  • Ex-Blizzard security expert squashes Apex Legends hack fears following ALGS attack – Dexerto

Ex-Blizzard security expert squashes Apex Legends hack fears following ALGS attack Joe Brady/ ALGS/ Software PirateFormer Blizzard cyber security expert, hacker, and Twitch streamer Jason ‘Pirate Software’ Hall squashed Apex Legends player’s fears about potentially being hacked following an ALGS attack. Multiple players were hacked during a North American ALGS match on March 17. The league has been delayed following the incident, and Respawn has yet to announce how it happened or if the vulnerability has been fixed at the time of writing. The hack has caused Apex Legends’ player count to drop as people uninstall the game over fears of being hacked and their information stolen. Former Blizzard cyber security expert and Twitch streamer Pirate Software discussed the hack and its impact on March 18 and also tried to squash player’s fear of the incident. Apex Legends players fear being hacked After breaking down the incident on his stream the creator told his viewers that uninstalling the game for a few days is a good idea while we wait for more information about the hack from Respawn. He also cautioned against spreading “needless fear” while the world waits to understand what exactly went down during the ALGS match. “Being off of a game for two days is not a big deal. That being said, the people who are targeted here are very high-profile people. If it was absolutely RCE inside of Apex Legends, which is unlikely to me right now, it be would likely that they hit the entire player base at once,” Pirate Software said 15 minutes into the video. RCE is remote code execution and is what the hacker claims they used to give the ALGS pros cheats during the match. The streamer elaborated by saying that if the hacker, who has pulled these kinds of high-profile stunts in Apex before, had found such a massive vulnerability there wouldn’t be a reason to not hit everyone at once and save it just for these pro players. Pirate Software’s main takeaway from the hack and the hacker’s previous work in Apex is to wait. He said there are many different ways this kind of exploit could happen outside of RCE, like the player’s computers were compromised in some way through malware. While Respawn has yet to come forward with a statement on the hack outside of announcing the league’s postponement, its anti-cheat maker has said the problem is not on their end. Other titles also protected under the same company, Easy Anti-Cheat, have backed up the company’s claims.

  • Evo Shields made permanent in Apex Legends following System Override – Dexerto

Evo Shields made permanent in Apex Legends following System Override Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment have announced that the popular Evo Shields in Apex Legends Season 4 will now become a permanent feature of the battle royale game, not just part of the System Override event. Apex Legends’s developers were open to feedback about the new type of armor since they were still undecided if the item type could have a place in the wider playlists of the battle royale and have now made a decision. “To start, the Evo Shield will be exclusive to the Deja Loot gamemode and spawn at higher rates,” the devs said in the System Override Collection Event patch notes. “After the event we’ll consider adding the Evo Shield to all matches, so please give us your feedback.” The trial period for Deja Loot’s unique armor must have been a success since it’s now going to be included in Ranked, Play Apex and future LTMs from here on out. It’s unknown how Evo Shields will affect games with higher stakes than a casual LTM, but we’ll soon find out because the decision has been made by developers. System Override may have ended, but Evo Shields are here to stay. Find them in Ranked, Play Apex, and limited-time modes moving forward. pic.twitter.com/axVqFqzVHW — Apex Legends (@PlayApex) March 17, 2020 While Evo Shield was a fun item to play with in Deja Loot, they can be an asset for competitive players trying to earn a Champions screen in Ranked. Unlike typical body armor, Evo Shields become more valuable as players deal damage to reach certain thresholds. This can result in a late-game armor that provides more protection than the coveted Legendary (Gold) Body Shield. The breakdown for the Evo Shield’s progression: 0 Damage – 25 Shield – 100 Damage – 50 Shield – 300 Damage – 100 Shield – 500 Damage – 125 Shield – Since the armor and its current level can carry over to another user, teams can exchange upgraded Evo Shields among themselves or find them in death boxes from a fallen opponent. The armor will definitely add a new layer of decision-making in Ranked where late-game fights can be decided by mere pixels worth of health. It will be interesting to see if Respawn experiments with ‘Evo’ variants for other gear like Backpacks, Knockdown Shields, and Helmets, but until then players can expect to come across Evo Shields in all playlists for Apex Legends in Season 4.

  • Everything you need to know about Apex Packs in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Everything you need to know about Apex Packs in Apex Legends Respawn has added in a variety of ways to unlock new customization content in Apex Legends with the Apex Packs and Apex Legends Coins. Apex Legends is a free to play Battle Royale game from Respawn, and Respawn has added a variety of optional customization content to monetize the game. One of the biggest additions is Apex Packs, a supply drop system for Apex Legends. Many fans were wary of Respawn’s decision to have supply drops in this title as EA has a bad reputation with their abuse of supply drops, as seen in Star Wars Battlefront II’s fiasco in 2017. In a new FAQ from Respawn, the details on how the Apex Pack system works has been confirmed — and it has an unexpected level of transparency. All Apex Packs only feature cosmetic items, and Respawn has made clear in their interviews that they will never allow gameplay advantageous to be sold in Apex Legends. Apex Packs can be earned in two ways: by playing the game and leveling up, and by purchasing them with the in-game currency called Apex Legends Coins. For the sake of transparency, Respawn has provided the expected drop rates for the rarity types on a single Apex Packs. The probability of earning at least one of the following is: Rare or better item: 100% – Epic or better item: 24.8% – Legendary item: 7.4% – Alongside the probability, the FAQ page also showcases a list of which types of content is available at what rarity. In-game, players can find the Apex Packs under the Store Tab and under ‘Apex Packs.’ 1 Apex Pack costs 100 Coins, and there’s a bundle of 10 available for 1,000 Coins. Beyond just sharing the probability earn rates, Respawn has also confirmed that Apex Packs are duplicate and bad luck protected. This means that players cannot earn items in Apex Packs if they have already unlocked those items. These packs also are bad luck protected for Legendary Items; bad luck protection entails that players cannot open more than 30 Apex Packs without receiving a Legendary Item. With this kind of transparency, Respawn is currently on the right track with their cosmetic system. Alongside a featured store, similar to that of Fortnite and Blackout, Apex Legends offers a variety of different ways to earn new content types for all players. • Clubs in Apex Legends: How to create and join a club – Dexerto

Clubs in Apex Legends: How to create and join a club Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Clubs are a new way for players to hang out and play together, so find out everything you need to know about this new feature. Apex Legends Clubs are a new social feature that will be launching in Season 7. These clubs will enable you to build a dedicated community of players that you can team up with and allow you to keep in touch with your members. It’s a much more robust version of the game’s current friend list and one that is a great addition for those that don’t have a dedicated squad. With the addition of the Apex Legends Club feature, players will finally be able to squad up and search for clubs that appeal to them. After all, everyone knows just how tricky it can be to win both casual and ranked games with randoms. Here’s everything you need to know about Apex Legends Clubs and how you can utilize them in Season 7. How to create clubs When Apex Legends Season 7 goes live, there will be a new tab called “Club” that will be featured in the game’s lobby. Clicking on this option will present you with two options: Find a Club – Create a Club – If you’re looking for a particular club or just wish to browse what’s on offer, then there will be a number of clubs put on display. If you’re specifically looking to set up your own club for people to join, then you must fill out the following options: Name – This is your club’s name. It must be unique and within 16 characters. – Tag – A four-character shorthand for your club that will be visible to your squadmates during a match. – Logo – A symbol that will be shown every time you visit the club lobby. – Privacy Setting – This controls how people can join your club. Clubs can be made open to the public, restricted based on account level, “By Request,” where users have to apply to join, and by invitation only. – Search Tags – You can choose up to five of the search tags Respawn provides that best describes the kind of club you want to own. For example, is your club extremely competitive and wishing to reach the highest ranks? Or are they much more relaxed when it comes to playing? Your chosen tag will help you fill your club with plenty of like-minded players. – It’s important to note that if you have disabled crossplay, then only users that have also disabled crossplay will be able to find and participate in your club. Make sure you change this setting if you wish to squad up with players across all platforms. Another thing to remember is that Apex clubs are bound to the data center the owner was on at the time the Club was created. This ensures that all club members have a similar ping when grouped up. However, you can receive invites from clubs anywhere and join them, regardless of the data center. How to search for a club If you don’t wish to be in charge of running your own club or simply want to join a friend’s/random person’s club, then you’ll need to search for one instead. You can do this by hitting the “Search for Clubs” button in the club tab. Once you’ve done this, you’ll be able to search by name, tag, privacy parameters, and search tags. Clubs that are open and non-restricted will show up in the listings. However, some clubs will only allow certain account levels to join. In addition, there will also be a number of clubs that require a join request. Once you file a request, the owner and admins of the club will be able to review your credentials by looking over your gladiator card before determining whether or not to accept you. Taking part in a club After you’ve set up or joined a club, your club tab will become your new club lobby. Every member of the club will be able to interact with the members’ list. This enables you to invite specific club members to your party, or extend the invite to everyone online via the “Invite All to Party” button. If you head on over to the “Timeline” option, you can see all your club’s recent events. For example, you’ll be able to see all the new people that have joined and all those that have managed to gain a top five finish in a match. Club member ranks explained Like all good clubs, Apex Legends sorts its club members into ranks. This makes managing the large swathes of players a lot easier. The club owner will be able to assign the following ranks: Grunt – The standard entry-level club member. Grunts can send and receive party invites from clubmates, and participate in club chats. – Captain – Captains serve as the club’s talent scouts. They have all the basic powers of the Grunt, but can send invites to potential members. – Admin – Admins are the junior version of the Owner. In addition to the Captain’s abilities, Admins can kick Grunts and Captains out of the club, change the club’s settings, post an announcement, view complaints filed against club members, and promote Grunts to Captains. – Owner – As the name suggests, the Owner can do everything the Admin can do and much more. They can promote users up to Admin, and kick any member out of the club. – It’s important to note that there can be only one Owner per club. However, multiple players share every other rank. Club announcements Club announcements can be made by the club Admins and Owners. These posts will create a pop-up message the next time users enter the lobby. For example, you can announce the time of your next play session or wish to congratulate a certain player’s recent achievements. • Apex Legends Season 3: Release date, Crypto, new map, battle pass – Dexerto

Apex Legends Season 3: Release date, Crypto, new map, battle pass Apex Legends Season 3 has finally been revealed, and we now know it’s called ‘Meltdown’, bringing a new map, the new legend Crypto, a new weapon and much more. Here’s everything we know so far. Season 3 will be aiming to step the game up once more after a successful Season 2, and we already know there will be a new legend and weapon, but it’s the long-term content plans that will be crucial. Most significantly, there will be a brand new map, called ‘World’s Edge’. Although leaks and teasers hinted at it, the exact details of the map have made fans more excited than ever. When does Apex Legends Season 3 start? Apex Legends Season 3 starts on October 1, 2019, right after the end of the second season. Respawn’s year one roadmap originally had a September release date for Season 3 in place, but that won’t be the case. Season 1 started a month behind schedule, and so did Season 2, and so we can expect a similar timeframe for Season 3 as well. You can watch the full cinematic trailer for the third season below. When does Apex Legends Season 2 end? Apex Legends season two currently has an end date of Tuesday, October 1 set, so there’s no downtime planned between the season. However, if it doesn’t change, you can expect season two to come to a close at 6pm BST/1pm EST/10am PDT and 7pm CEST on October 1. Will Crypto be added in Season 3? Crypto has finally been confirmed as the new legend for Season 3, coming in with his new drone abilities. We already have a good idea of what his abilities will entail too, thanks to leaked game files: Tactical: Aerial Drone – Surveillance camera drone, lasts for 40 seconds, 200 meter range. Can be destroyed. Can hack doors, loot bins and pick up banners with drone. – Passive: Neuro Link – Crypto and teammates see what surveillance drone detect up to 30 meters away. – Ultimate: Weapon Drone EMP – Charge up an EMP blast from your drone. Deals shield damage, slows enemies and disables all traps. – In terms of his intentions, Crypto’s lore largely revolves around his desire to overthrow from the inside, as he hacks his way into the system — even being the one responsible for taking down the Repulsor Tower at the beginning of Season 2. In fact, he seems to be responsible for the new map, discussed next. Crypto’s cinematic trailer can be seen below. New map – World’s Edge After leaks suggested that lava and ice was coming for Season 3, it was finally confirmed that a brand new map is coming. Named World’s Edge, not only is it a new map, but it’s on an entirely new planet, separate from Solace (where Kings Canyon is). The map was revealed in more detail in the gameplay trailer. New weapon: Charge Rifle “Carve your way across the Arena with this obliterating directed-energy weapon.” The L-Star was added back in Season 2, and next up is the Charge Rifle, an energy weapon that will release a charged-beam, as opposed to individual rounds. Rosie and Nomad? Rosie and Nomad are two other legends that have been discussed online but neither are likely additions to Season 3 – at least at the start of it. The former has even been teased by Tina Sanchez, a producer on Apex Legends, suggesting her development is fairly far along. You can read all about the potential new legend in our Everything you need to know about Rosie article. Working on Apex Legends stuff :lovestruck:@jitterbot @_moyparra pic.twitter.com/CeGxxqvldR — Tina Sanchez (@Teanah) August 1, 2019 Will Apex Legends Season 3 have a battle pass? Respawn have confirmed that the new battle pass will feature over 100 exclusive items, including legendary skins, Apex packs and ‘new’ battle pass content – although we’re not sure what that is yet. Presumably, the battle pass will also still grant Apex coins too, which can be spent on cosmetics or saved to use on the Season 4 battle pass. How much will the Apex Legends battle pass cost? The battle passes for both season one and two cost 950 Apex Coins – so you’ll have to pick up 1,000 from the store for £7.99/$10 if you don’t keep ahold of the free currency that can be claimed through battle pass progression. What about a PVE mode? Season 3 may include the addition of a Player vs Environment mode. Flyers, which appear to be aggressive and AI-controlled, could work similarly to Call of Duty Zombies. Alternatively, they may be part of the battle royale mode itself. With such little information available, and what we do know only shared through a leak, we’ll have to wait for further news. For a look at everything that has been confirmed so far, check out the early patch notes. Last updated on Tuesday, October 1 at 7:30 AM (EST).

  • Everything we know about Crafting in Apex Legends Season 6 – Dexerto

Everything we know about Crafting in Apex Legends Season 6 Respawn EntertainmentCrafting has been confirmed by Respawn Entertainment as a new in-game mechanic coming to Apex Legends for Season 6. Here, we break down everything we know so far, from when it’s coming to the items players might be able to craft. Apex Legends has kept itself unique from other battle royales as, up to this point, players aren’t able to build or craft different items as they run around in games. However, when the Season 6: Boosted trailer was revealed by Respawn, their accompanying blog post raised a few eyebrows as it contained the phrase ‘Crafting.’ As speculation has run a bit wild about what this could entail, here is everything you need to know about Crafting in Apex Legends. When is Crafting coming to Apex Legends? Crafting has been confirmed as coming to Apex Legends for Season 6, and fans can expect it to launch when the season itself does. Barring any last-minute delays, which seems unlikely given the release of the trailer from Respawn, Season 6 is set to start on August 18. The update is likely to be sizeable given the plethora of new content coming, including Rampart, the game’s latest legend. How will Crafting work in Apex Legends? At the moment, it’s not entirely clear. The new mechanic was teased with the line: “Don’t like your gear? Collect materials around the map and build something better!” It certainly doesn’t sound like players will be able to Fortnite-build their way around the map anytime soon. However, it does sound like players will be able to collect items around the map – either new items or existing ones – and combine them to make better items. For example, a player could collect two common armors, and craft them into a rare armor. It’s not clear whether this will be a possible craft, but this example should give you an idea of how it is expected to work. What remains slightly less clear is whether there will be new items to craft together. For example, will Respawn introduce armor fragments (or something similar), as opposed to using existing items and crafting them together. We’ll have to wait and see. What can you craft in Apex Legends? Finally, we’ll take a look at items that players will likely be able to craft. It seems likely that a lot of the existing items will be craftable. This means that Armor, Helmets, Shield Cells, Phoenix Kits, Knockdown Shields, Backpacks and much more could all become accessible through Crafting. Assuming it works as above, we could see far more rare variants of these items on the map. While a lot remains unclear at the moment, we’re sure to get more details and information as the Season 6 release draws nearer.

  • Everything you need to know about Apex Legends character Octane – Dexerto

Everything you need to know about Apex Legends character Octane Apex Legends Season 1 has finally launched, and brought with it a brand new character named Octane for fans to get their hands on. UPDATE – March 18, 2019 With the official announcement for Apex Legends’ Season 1 Battle Pass came the full reveal of Octane. After blowing his legs off in a record-breaking gauntlet speed-run, Octavio “Octane” Silva is diving into the Apex Games with metal legs and even bigger ambitions. He’s searching for the ultimate adrenaline rush by using his death-defying moves to become an Apex Champion. His Adrenaline Junkie ability lets him trade health for speed, and an endless supply of Stim health regeneration means he’s always ready for action. His Launch Pad Ultimate Ability lets his squad fly through the air with the greatest of ease. Jump into Apex Legends and play Octane today! Octane was officially introduced to Apex Legends on Tuesday, March 19, with the release of the Wild Frontiers patch for the massively popular battle royale game. The update ushered in the start of Apex Legends Season 1, and also released the brand new Battle Pass, although some fans are not impressed with the content found in it. Octane is the ninth Legend to make an appearance in the game, and here is everything we know about the new character. Who is Octane? For Apex Legends fans who have been wondering who Octane is, Respawn Entertainment have provided a full backstory to allow players to learn the history of the latest Legend. Octavio Silva, known by his alias ‘Octane’, is a “record-breaking gauntlet speed-runner,” who lost his legs during one of these events. Now standing on two metal legs, the adrenaline junkie is searching for the ultimate rush, a victory in Kings Canyon and the opportunity to be named an Apex Champion. UPDATE – March 17, 2019 On March 17, fans were treated with yet another leak showing another look at the full character model. While Respawn Entertainment have yet to announce anything regarding the new Legends coming to the game, several leaks have offered a hint at the potential new releases. Most prominent among them is “Octane”, whose name first appeared in a data mined leak, but about whom further details now appear to have surfaced. While nothing is yet confirmed, and such leaks must be taken with a grain of salt, here’s everything we know so far about the potential new Legend. Who is Octane? Unfortunately, details surrounding the character himself are essentially non-existent at this point. Nothing about the Octane’s backstory has been leaked, so players are left with only speculation based on supposed leaked images of the Legend, of which there have been a few. Fans got a better look at the character in a since-deleted Reddit post which looked to show a promo photo about the Legend being in the works. While apparently human based on his upper body, Octane’s legs and knees appear to be robotic, suggesting they might have been amputated – perhaps as a result of a serious injury sustained in pursuit of an extreme activity, considering he appears to have an ability called “adrenaline junkie”. What are Octane’s abilities? Octane’s abilities revolve around making sure he stays in the fight, with his Passive Ability called Swift Mend providing him with constant healing in the middle of intense battle. Octane can trade some of his health out for a 30% speed boost though, allowing him to continue his daredevil antics at breakneck speeds. Octane’s Ultimate Ability lets him throw down a Launch Pad, which any member of his team can use. This can be especially useful to rotate around the map, or to gain elevation in a fight and bring showers of bullets raining down on enemy players. Passive Ability: Swift Mend While not taking damage, Octane restores health over time. Tactical Ability: Stim Move 30% faster for 8 seconds. Costs 10% Health. Immune to slows while active. Ultimate Ability: Launch Pad Deployable jump pad that catapults users through the air. What kind of Apex Legends player should use Octane? Octane is perfect for players who love fast-paced action and plenty of movement. Octane’s Swift Mend ability means you are constantly healing as long as you’re not taking damage, allowing players to be a little more reckless in their approach to gunfights. Players can also trade out some of their health for a huge speed boost, allowing them to charge at opponents at incredble velocity, or escape an enemy squad if the battle isn’t going their way. Octane’s Launch Pad Ultimate Ability is a perfect rotation tool to escape the ring, or to push into an enemy-controlled area in hopes of eliminating them. While Apex Legends fans will be excited to finally try out Octane, they’ll be glad to hear that he isn’t the only new character slated to join the battle royale title. Data miners have previously found information regarding a new Legend named Wattson, although there is no official word on when the character will be added to the game. The Wild Frontier update is available on Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 right now. Octane’s ‘callouts’ have also been added to the game, as well as his finisher moves, according to leaker @ApexLeaksNews. *Update: March 14* @Shrugtal on Twitter, who has covered a lot of the data leaks with Apex Legends, has now confirmed the name for one of Octane’s finishers. The new finisher listed as “Full Throttle,” was apparently confirmed by Respawn support staff when a player could not access content from one of their Apex Packs, the apparent chat log has been posted on Reddit, although there has been no official confirmation yet from Respawn Studios. According to this bug found by players the Apex Legends Season One Battle Pass should have already been released. Saw a support conversation that basically said that the reason this occurs is Octane items being added to the loot list, and that you’ll have access to them when Octane is released. On a unrelated note, Octane’s legendary finisher is called Full Throttle. — Shrugtal (@shrugtal) March 14, 2019 When is Octane being released? Whoever the first new Legend is, they will be arriving during Apex’s Season One, which is set to kick off in March. Exactly when Season One will begin, and whether or not the new Legend will be available immediately or sometime later in the season, remain unknown. Octane isn’t the only Legend name to have been seemingly leaked, however. A number of others have been identified by data miners, most notably “Wattson”, for whom abilities such as the “Tesla Trap” appear to have been found. While it’s worth taking all leaks with a grain of salt until anything is confirmed, the extent of the leaks surrounding Octane do suggest that he’s a real Legend and likely to be the first to join the game’s roster. *Update: March 12* An Origin leak appears to have prematurely advertised the beginning of Apex Legends Season One, seemingly confirming that Octane will in fact be released with the inaugural season. Respawn has yet to officially announce a release date for Season 1. This is an updating post and will be updated any time new information about Octane is discovered prior to the in-game release of the Legend.

  • Apex Legends RP calculator: Every possible RP gain in Ranked Play Season 8 – Dexerto

Apex Legends RP calculator: Every possible RP gain in Ranked Play Season 8 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has made major changes to Ranked play in Season 8, so a helpful calculator breaks down how many Ranked Points you will earn – or lose – based on rank, placement, and kills. Almost all FPS games offer a separate ranked playlist for their players, and Apex Legends is no different. Since its release in Season 2, the game’s ranked mode has provided players with a way to test their skills against the best of the best. Ranked Leagues separate players into seven skill brackets – ranging from Bronze to Apex Predator – based on performance in two ranked splits. Each player’s current rank, match placement, and number of kills/assists determines the number of Ranked Points (RP) they will earn or lose every game. With RP determined by several different factors, players can find it challenging to track how many points they are earning or losing each match. However, one player has come to the aid of anyone who is confused by the system – especially with Respawn implementing changes to ranked play in Season 8. Apex Legends RP combos A post on the Apex Legends subreddit helps to clear things up for anyone confused about their potential RP gains. The helpful graphic comes from user Ninjario, who breaks down the changes in Season 8 based on all three contributing factors: current player rank, final match placement, and total kills/assists. Read More: Apex Legends Season 8 early patch notes – The updated graphic shows the exact combinations needed to go positive in each match and what will cause players to lose RP for every skill bracket. Ninjario already shared a calculator for gains and losses in the old ranked system, and was kind enough to update their graphic to reflect the changes in Season 8. This provides players with an easy understanding of what performance to strive for in ranked: for example, Predator and Master players can easily see that a final placement between 11th and 13th place combined with six kills or assists is the absolute minimum needed for an RP gain (+5) in their skill bracket. Ranked Leagues in Season 8 With the release of Season 8, a new ranked series and updated RP system kicks in Apex Legends. Starting on February 2, players will compete in the first ranked split on the obliterated Kings Canyon followed by the second split on Olympus beginning March 23. Read More: Who is Fuse in Apex Legends? – In the seasonal ranked update post, Respawn’s designers discussed their vision for ranked play going into Season 8. The update included information on the new RP system, the rewards for ranked play in Season 8, and on-going goals for the game’s ranked playlist. The game’s next ranked split begins on February 2, alongside the launch of Apex Legends’ 8th season: Mayhem. Players can jump into the action on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and 5, PC, and potentially for the first time on Nintendo Switch.

  • Every major balancing issue currently affecting Apex Legends and how each one can be fixed – Dexerto

Every major balancing issue currently affecting Apex Legends and how each one can be fixed Despite the fact that, at its surface, Apex Legends looks, feels, and plays like a great addition to the battle royale genre, there are some critical balancing issues currently plaguing the game. There is no doubting the early success of Apex Legends as the majority of its player-base has reacted to many aspects of the game very positively, particularly the mechanics that are new for a BR game, such as player respawning and the Ping system. However, some have pointed out that some of the more fundamental facets that are rooted deeper in the game’s core are flawed and unbalanced, and they could spell trouble for Apex Legends down the line. Content creator ‘Frothy’ has pointed out some of these issues in a thread of detailed analytical tweets he put out on February 25, in which he also offered some suggestions for how they could be resolved. His social media spiel was prompted by a test that was performed in Apex Legends which detailed the exact measurements for each Legend’s hitboxes, causing some controversy among the player-base. While I’m not super happy with how this test was done, since we don’t have a proper practice/training/private match feature in Apex, this is the only way you could test hitboxes out. Everything looks very much in line with how it “”feels.”” Off feeling alone I’d rank 1-8 the same https://t.co/CAgrdWwFaZ — Frothy (@FrothyOmen) February 25, 2019 The first major balancing issue he detailed was the “imprecision” of crosshairs: “Weapons which require a center dot don’t have one, and edy designs trump usability in most cases. In his tweet, he indirectly proposes that the enabling of customization, as well as permission to use third party crosshair programs, would at least help mitigate the effect of this issue. This then led into the topic of sensitivity, and how there is a critical flaw in having only two sensitivity settings when there are multiple levels of zoom on certain scopes and field-of-view settings. The solution? Adding the ability to control the sensitivity on each level of zoom and FOV, even if that means limiting the number of FOV levels there are available. For example — want your 2x Bruiser scope to feel perfect in your hands? Well, which gun is it on, a pistol or rifle? It matters. Once you tune that, your 1x, 3x, 4x, 6x, 8x, and 10x scopes are all rekt. Too fast on the low end, too slow on the high end. — Frothy (@FrothyOmen) February 25, 2019 His next major point of contention was the fact that custom configurations and macro keys were allowed to be used by players, but the “fair” commands were all disabled. “Want to abuse the crouch-to-instant-weapon-swap-feature in one button press? Configs let you,” he tweeted. “Want to double-pump to up Peacekeeper/Kraber rate of fire? Sure! But can you change your head bob or crosshair settings? Nah.” Of course, the solution for this is in the explanation itself; either “fair” commands should be allowed as well or all of these configurations should be disallowed completely. There are several ways to resolve this imbalance, such as nerfing the explosive, limiting the number of grenades players can carry, or just removing it completely. A/D strafing and female hitboxes (read: smaller or equal to male in all cases in Respawn games) are always preferable, and which legends are the best in Apex? The ones who a/d strafe the best, with the smallest hitboxes, and/or the highest ground walk speed w/ abilities. — Frothy (@FrothyOmen) February 25, 2019 The points made by Frosty are certainly worth paying attention to, because they are fundamental enough to cause major imbalances in the game moving forward. Of course, there is always the chance that Respawn will look to address these issues, but their track record with past titles certainly doesn’t offer too much hope.

  • Every Evac Ship location in Apex Legends Shadowfall LTM – Dexerto

Every Evac Ship location in Apex Legends Shadowfall LTM Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends’ latest limited-time event is now live, with players able to drop into the Shadowfall mode on the King’s Canyon map. Part of the mode requires escaping on an Evac Ship, so here’s every location at which they can land. The Apex Legends Shadowfall event officially kicked off on Tuesday, October 15, with a new game mode plus a ton of new cosmetics available to players throughout the duration of the limited-time mode. The mysterious ‘Revenant’ character has swept players back to Kings Canyon, with the location plunged into darkness and covered with Shadow Squad members, dead Legends who return to try and wipe out the remaining players who haven’t yet met their demise. When ten players are left, it’s time for them to team up and hold off the Shadow Squad until the Evac Ships land to take them out of danger, but surviving can be difficult, especially if you don’t know where the ships will land. Thankfully, Reddit user DaFreshestAce has created a map showing the different spots at which the ships will park, giving you an idea of where to be as the games come to a close. Knowing where these ships will roughly appear at the end could be the difference between victory and defeat, as finding yourself at a location at which there is no ship landing could force you to travel long distances to find one, all while battling off hordes of the undead. Escaping Kings Canyon is the only way to claim victory in this mode, as the Shadow Squad will do everything in their power to force you to join their ranks, and with this map you should have no excuse for not knowing the Evac Ship locations. Of course, a ship won’t drop at every location in every match, but knowing roughly where they can appear will give you an important tool in your battle. The Shadowfall LTM is available now, and if you’re struggling to find victories, you can use our Apex Legends Shadowfall survival guide to give you a leg up on the competition.

  • Every Apex Legends ranked RP record has been broken in Season 14 – Dexerto

Every Apex Legends ranked RP record has been broken in Season 14 Respawn EntertainmentPredator has always been a hard rank to achieve in Apex Legends. But now, the RP threshold for getting into that prestigious top 750 on PC is ludicrously high, and the peak RP record has already been broken. The red trail. The exclusive badges. The bragging rights. Hitting Apex Predator and putting yourself in the top 750 players in the game is a massive achievement for any player. However, with the Season 14 ranked changes removing the cap on RP gains and matchmaking putting Gold players against a top 5 Pred player, the RP threshold for hitting that prestigious Predator rank is really, really high. So high, in fact, that the amount of RP required to hit Pred is over 35,000, a number that has eclipsed the previous 33k record with over a week left in the season. On top of that, the record RP number has broken 100k for the first time since Sentinels’ own Lou hit 100k RP in Apex Legends Season 12. Apex Legends raises the bar with impossible RP record Ranked has been a hot topic through Season 14, even more so than Season 13 when Respawn started making some serious changes to RP gains and losses. The end result of all these slight tweaks and changes has culminated in a ranked system that feels almost entirely different. There’s much more risk considering that players who get dropped early lose much more RP and can be demoted, but also a much bigger reward for players who go for kills and play aggressive. For the absolute best players in Apex Legends, this is a great way to show off your skill and prowess. But it also makes the curve for RP gains incredibly large. Getting through all the ranks from Rookie to Master requires 15,000 RP. With the minimum RP to hit Pred being over 35,000 at the time of writing, it takes more RP to get to Pred from Master than it takes to make your way through the entirety of the ranked system. This isn’t anything new for top level players, but the increased RP cost to play games has certainly thrown off how many players populate the highest ranks in Apex Legends. The total number of Master and Pred players on PC is much lower than previous seasons, meaning that the absolute best Apex Legends players are thriving and setting records while everyone else struggles to reach previous peaks. Reaching the coveted Predator rank is incredibly difficult now, and requires players to rack up a ton of kills in order to progress. There’s a certain point in the ranked grind to peak Pred where it’s possible to lose points for winning a game. Seriously. However, some players are using the uncapped ranked system to skyrocket their RP. E6 Slayers has already gone over the 100k RP mark, with his peak being at 100,875. With over a week of Season 14 left at the time of writing, there’s time to push this record even further. We’re in a system where aggressive, high kill players are rewarded for treating Predator lobbies like pub games. Not to mention, matchmaking has put players ranked as low as Gold into Predator lobbies. A mix of matchmaking issues and RP changes have completely thrown off the current leaderboards in comparison to what they were before Season 14. Whether or not Respawn decides to revert changes or make new ones remains to be seen.

  • Every Apex Legends gun spray pattern to help control recoil – Dexerto

Every Apex Legends gun spray pattern to help control recoil While Apex Legends is full of crazy characters with unique abilities that can change matches in an instant, the core of the game is still a first-person shooter, and controlling your recoil is massively important in becoming Apex Champion. With characters like Wraith zooming in and out of portals and Caustic dropping gas traps to poison his opponents, it’s easy to forget how important the weapon in your hands is, as it’s the main way you’ll find eliminations on World’s End as you hunt for those elusive battle royale victories. As with almost every FPS, each gun comes with it’s own unique spray pattern, as the recoil when the weapon fires alters your aim. Being able to master these patterns can be the difference between a good player and a great player, and for those who are unsure of how they work, Reddit user ShamsTAZ has created a handy guide image that shows the spray of each gun when fired in the game. While for some guns in the game recoil is fairly straightforward, there are a few weapons that have crazy recoil, veering off in random directions which make them difficult to control, and unpredictable in the heat of battle. The Havoc assault rifle and Alternator SMG both have simple patterns, with the gun pulling up into the air, but not drastically moving sideways to knock your crosshairs off an opponent. The same can’t be said for guns like the Spitfire or the Flatline, though, which appear to go crazy the moment they are fired, spraying wildly from side to side while still pushing the crosshairs towards the sky, away from the opponent. To help understand the path the weapon takes, the starting point has been marked in green, so you can see where the bullets first landed before being affected by recoil. Of course, the purpose behind recoil in games is to make it harder for players to hit their shots, rewarding those who can control it against enemies who cannot, but having a rough idea of where the weapon is headed once you start to fire can make a huge difference to your gameplay. Landing more bullets than your opponent early in an Apex Legends gunfight is make-or-break, as whiffing your shots leaves you open to elimination, especially if they have better control over their weapon. With so many guns available in the game, it’s likely impossible to perfect your aim with every one of them, but some basic knowledge can give you a massive advantage if you’re able to put it into practice.

  • Every Apex Legends Arenas map: layout, rotation, more – Dexerto

Every Apex Legends Arenas map: layout, rotation, more Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Season 9 introduced many new things, including the much-anticipated 3v3 Arena mode that pits players against each other on small maps. Here’s a list of all the maps that are currently available. Arenas is Apex Legends’ answer to tactical FPS junkies. The new 3v3 mode pits two squads together, with no third parties, and tests your wits and aim to try and win a fair-and-square fight. At the moment, there are two custom-built maps and three battle royale-inspired locations for players to fight on. They rotate every 15 minutes. However, only three maps will be playable at any given time, as the BR locations will be rotated every two weeks. Here’s a list of them all. JUMP TO SECTION Custom Arenas maps Party Crasher Mirage helped create this map by crashing his ship into a downtown plaza. The result has formed a dimly-lit location filled with vantage points and flanking opportunities. Read More: How does Arenas work in Apex Legends? – With so many buildings and areas to hide, players will have to be careful not to be taken by surprise by any lurking enemies. Phaserunner Based in an experimental zone surrounded by mountains, Phaserunner is a circular map that contains the Phase technology found in Olympus. This snowy and nature-filled map is open and offers long-sight lines for players with great aim. On top of this, there’s a phase portal that can be a risky yet potentially rewarding option for squads. Battle Royale-inspired maps Artillery (Kings Canyon) Artillery has always been one of the most popular locations on King’s Canyon. Located at the northernmost point of the map, it’s essentially a large base with several buildings surrounded by high walls, making it the perfect place for a two-team brawl. Golden Gardens (Olympus) Golden Gardens is a discreet but often eventful location on Olympus. It includes multiple buildings stacked on top of each other, some of which don’t have doors. As a result, it’s a haven for tactical, fast-paced combat, making it the perfect spot for an Arena battle. Thermal Station(World’s Edge) Thermal Station is the World’s Edge-based arenas map. The Lava should be an interesting challenge on this map especially when it comes into rotation. So, there you have it—a complete list of all the maps currently available in Apex Legends’ new Arenas mode. Golden Gardens and Thermal station will be available over the course of Season 9, as they are rotated in for two-week periods. There’s bound to be more added in time, and once that happens, we’ll update this list with all the new additions. Respawn Entertainment is going all-in on Arenas, and they’ve promised a ranked version is in the works, too.

  • Every Apex Legends ability that can be used on Trident vehicles – Dexerto

Every Apex Legends ability that can be used on Trident vehicles Respawn EntertainmentAlong with all of the new content in Apex Legends Season 7, the Trident vehicles have definitely stolen the show, but only a few Legends can use their abilities while driving them around Olympus. [jwplayer OXyCJ7sp] Introduced at the start of Season 7, Tridents are the first-ever vehicles to be added in Apex Legends. The triple-seated hovercraft spawns at certain locations around Olympus and can get you where you need to go in a flash, making them perfect for those long rotations to a circle that’s starting to shrink. Because you can’t run over enemies with the Trident to rack up eliminations as you might do in other games, abilities are the next best shot at snagging kills while zipping around the new Apex Legends map. However, as we’ve had plenty of time to experiment and mess around with this new toy, it has quickly become clear that not every Legend can pull out their special moves while riding on one. As we saw in the gameplay trailer, Rampart’s ultimate – the minigun known as Sheila — can be placed at the back of the Trident and operated as sort of a poor man’s Warthog. The only drawback is that it can only fire forwards, so you do have to keep enemies in your field of view. Here are all of the abilities that can be used when onboard one of these vehicles: Rampart’s Ultimate – Can be placed at the back of the Trident – Caustic Traps – Can be placed anywhere on top of the Trident – Lifeline Drone – Can be placed anywhere on top of the Trident – Crypto Drone – Can be used while riding as a passenger on the trident – Gibraltar Dome – Can be placed on the middle section of the Trident – While Caustic’s gas traps can be placed all over, you will need to get close enough to an enemy to trigger them. Lifeline’s DOC, Crypto’s drone, and Gibraltar’s dome shield can also be used while riding on the Trident. Other Legends like Horizon and Octane can use their Gravity Lift and Launch Pad to affect the hovercraft, but if you try and put either of them on top of it, they’ll just fall off. This also goes for Wattson’s Interceptor Pylon, which won’t stick either. All in all, however, there seems to be a decent amount of balance in terms of what can and can’t be used on a Trident. It remains to be seen whether or not Respawn will add to this list, but it’s clear that the developers were very careful when planning all this out so that the vehicles don’t end up becoming too powerful.

This article will be updated as this information releases from official sources. The EWC is also putting up $7.6 million before the event begins for teams to win through the qualifying stages. $20 million will also be awarded to the top 16 teams across the event. Players who earn MVP status after their respective tournaments will also receive an additional $50,000, totaling $1.1 million across all esports. The record for the biggest prize pool for a single tournament, however, is still held by DOTA 2’s T1 2021 as the event offered up over $40 million to contestants.

Epic Games Co-Founder gives verdict on Apex Legends, Fortnite’s new rival Epic Games, Respawn EntertainmentEpic Games’ Vice President has revealed his views on Respawn Entertainment’s new popular battle royale game Apex Legends, which looks set to rival Fortnite throughout 2019. Respawn launched their new project on February 4 with very little pre-launch advertising, but has since surged in popularity to the point where it’s already competing with both Fortnite and PUBG for concurrent players. With so much speculation about how Apex Legends could provide fresh competition for some of the industry’s biggest games right now, one of Epic’s most high profile figures has shared his opinion on it. • Electrifying Apex Legends skin concepts for Wattson – Dexerto

Electrifying Apex Legends skin concepts for Wattson Ever since Wattson’s introduction to the Apex Legends universe in Season 2, Respawn Entertainment have introduced lots of cosmetic upgrades for the Static Defender. However, some fan concept art will impress even Respawn’s own art team. Wattson’s addition to Apex Legends was well-received by fans. Bringing a welcomed change of pace and a new dynamic element to gameplay, her presence in the battle royale was immediately announced through a series of map changes. Her legendary skins have been big hits within the community, but are difficult to get a hold of — considering they set players back a sizable chunk of their hard-earned crafting metals, or are left shelling out approximately $18 to obtain the skin’s equivalent worth in with Apex Coins. Daughter of the Games’ lead electrical engineer, Wattson’s lore is somewhat decorated, considering her descendence as a Legend and apparent ties into the unknown ‘Syndicate’ organization. Grounded in her approach, her methodical style suits an array of players. Most notably, players have been utilizing her ‘Perimeter Security’ ability to great effect within the Shadowfall LTM. Fans have taken creative inspiration from her increased popularity and have put pen to paper, in a bid to encourage a cosmetic overhaul from Respawn. Zombie Wattson Michal Salata originally posted their ghoulish rendition of Wattson to their Twitter, which has been aptly timed in-line with the Fight or Fright event. The artist has previously taken their talents to Bangalore – providing the soldier with a military–themed suit – which was lapped up by fans far and wide. 600Mummified Wattson Originally posted to the Apex Legends subreddit, a user under the alias ‘PreetiSketch’ also took a spark of ingenuity from the ongoing Collection Event, with their mummified take on the Solace native. Captioned “You can’t be afraid of the dark if you know how to control the light”, fans have given their seal of approval, to a point of claiming that this could replace the Halloween skin that Wattson currently has available in-game. At the time of writing, the post received upward of 1.8k upvotes on the subreddit. 600 Raiden Wattson Showing their artistic flair through rendering a drawing on their mobile, Reddit user ‘Kozvrt’ took inspiration from the Mortal Kombat god of thunder and lightning. In a stylistic crossover, this Raiden inspired crossover had fans reveling at a potential Apex Legends x Mortal Kombat collaboration. Given Wattson’s rise in popularity, fans will be pinning their hopes to these skin concepts, in anticipation that Respawn might be on-hand to make them come to life. A mid-season event might be on the cards after the Fight or Fright event, which would be a prime opportunity to implement some of these ideas and bring in a whole new look for the character.

  • Electrifying Apex Legends cosplay sparks Wattson to life – Dexerto

Electrifying Apex Legends cosplay sparks Wattson to life An Apex Legends cosplayer has taken Wattson straight out of World’s Edge and brought her to life with this incredible ensemble. Apex Legends’ Holo-Day Bash is in full swing and with that has brought a plethora of festive changes to World’s Edge as we know it. Although Mirage is basking in the limelight, perhaps Wattson has stolen the show thanks to this lifelike recreation. A cosplayer under the alias ‘Cosplamy’ has an array of unique takes on some iconic characters under her belt. From a pixelated Wonder Woman to Star Wars’ lead villain, Kylo Ren, there is no denying her talents. Cosplamy has managed to brilliantly recreate Apex Legends’ Static Defender, which was met with heaps of praise on her Instagram. The cosplayer revealed that the whole outfit took three months to put together, with the gear and gadgets being “reverse engineered” before being 3D printed. https://www.instagram.com/p/B16b_EXjC9D/ https://www.instagram.com/p/B17T5fKjFiQ/ Giving a more in-depth look into the process behind bringing Wattson to life, Cosplamy revealed that: “All of Wattson gear was 3D modeled on Fusion 360 and then 3D printed on our JGAurora A5S. “Over 300 hours of 3D printing and we haven’t even finished the legs of the backpack turret yet.” There is no denying that Cosplamy’s take is spot-on. However, fellow cosplayer, ‘Nikki Brutal,’ and her recreation of Wattson will give her a run for her money with her attire which she debuted at PAX West. Looking forward to seeing you at PAX West today!#ApexLegends #wattson #cosplay #paxwest2019 #Mixer pic.twitter.com/wvmM9hfVAP — NikkiBrutal 🍑 (@nikkibrutal) August 30, 2019 Given Wattson’s faithful following among the community, it’s no surprise that both of these cosplayers have put their talents to good use in bringing the Legend to life. Perhaps we’ll be able to boast a full roster of Apex Legends characters recreations one day, since we already have: Lifeline, Wraith, Mirage, Pathfinder and Gibraltar.

  • Easy Octane trick lets you Stim without taking damage in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Easy Octane trick lets you Stim without taking damage in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentA simple Octane trick in Apex Legends allows you to cancel the damage from Stim by using a consumable at the correct moment. Typically, the popularity of characters in Apex Legends changes over time depending on their place within the meta, buffs & nerfs, as well as their role in the game’s story. However, there are a select few Legends that have remained extremely popular since their arrival in the Outlands, and one of them is Octane. With a kit that centers around mobility, the High-speed Daredevil may be fun to play, but he has an array of intricate techniques that can take countless hours to learn. Well, a new trick has been discovered for Octane, and it allows players to completely negate the damage from his Stim Tactical. How to cancel Stim damage on Octane in Apex Legends Some of the most effective techniques in Apex are extremely simple, and that’s certainly the case for this Octane Stim trick demonstrated by YouTuber RossBobSquirrel. Usually, Octane’s Tactical Stim will grant you a boost of movement speed but in return, it will slowly take away your health for the duration that is it active. Luckily, there’s a way to completely negate this damage by simply activating Stim just before you’ve finished using a consumable. This will give you the boost of speed but also cancel the tick damage you would usually lose from using the Tactical. If you’re looking for a demonstration, check out the video below. Although this trick will not be particularly useful in between gunfights, it will be absolutely essential during an intense skirmish. The health lost from Stim could be the difference-maker between you picking up a kill or getting eliminated from a match. So, if you’re an Octane main, jump into the Firing Range and learn this trick as soon as possible, it could secure you an extra few wins.

  • Easy Mirage Ultimate trick makes the Apex Legend even more bamboozling – Dexerto

Easy Mirage Ultimate trick makes the Apex Legend even more bamboozling Respawn EntertainmentA creative Mirage main has shared an ingenious tip when using the Holographic Trickster in Apex Legends, and it makes his recently buffed decoys all the more difficult to discern. Many Mirage mains were pleased with Respawn’s decision to buff the bamboozling trickster in a recent update – even if his strengthening came in the form of a long-awaited bug fix. The fix, which added footstep audio to his decoys, was originally successful but Respawn have since committed to fixing their fix. Adding audio to Mirage’s decoys offers another level of deception to his Ultimate Ability; making it more difficult for opponents to tell the real Mirage from the fakes he spawns. Pair this buff with an ingenious Ultimate Ability tactic, and Mirage becomes another level of bamboozling. The trick, shared by Redditor stellaren_ is an awesome way of disguising yourself further when using Mirage’s Ultimate. It essentially involves creating a perfect circle of decoys and walking them backwards, making it incredibly difficult to spot the real one. To pull it off players should use Mirage’s Ultimate and instantly wheel around. Once facing the opposite way, players should walk – not run – in a straight line away from the spot they called the ability in from. Given their recent buffs to give off audible footstep sounds (when it works), this makes identifying the real Mirage near impossible for enemies nearby. As demonstrated by the player, it can allow you to reposition and completely ambush an opponent. More confident enemies will tend to push towards where the Ultimate was called in from, meaning players backing away also provides the opportunity to survey surroundings and reposition accordingly. It’s certainly not the most complicated trick we’ve ever seen, but if Sherlock Holmes was in Apex he’d say the art of a good disguise is hiding in plain sight.

  • Easy Apex Legends movement tricks to outplay enemies on World’s Edge – Dexerto

Easy Apex Legends movement tricks to outplay enemies on World’s Edge Respawn EntertainmentWorld’s Edge is a very vertical map, with lots of scaleable buildings that Apex Legends players can use to their advantage. Here are some simple movement tricks that will help you outplay your opponents in Capitol City. [jwplayer ePrNLj8A] Claiming the high ground in Apex Legends will give you a massive advantage over enemies in gunfights, allowing you to take any fight on your own terms. The Capitol City buildings are some of the best examples of this, on World’s Edge, as they often have players hiding up top, who can rain down fire on anyone passing through the area. While opponents like this can be difficult to deal with, Apex Legends YouTuber BsE Millo has shared a set of simple yet effective tricks for climbing and attacking that can counter these rooftop campers. Although abilities such as Bangalore’s Rolling Thunder are often used to threaten players on roofs, you can also make your way up the side of these buildings to flank these unsuspecting players. The YouTuber revealed some clever routes to climb up the skyscrapers that you, and other players, might not have known, which could give you the upper hand in your games. All of the climbing tricks highlighted in the World’s Edge video can be done by simply pressing the jump button and then holding the interact button. Although some characters (mainly Revenant) are better climbers, all Legends should be capable of making these climbs with some practice. The unique jumps and climbing routes that Millo shared would often lead you straight to the roof of these towers, or give you ways to check out each floor from the outside. As most players expect their opponents to attack them from the stairs or by simply ziplining up, these unique flanks can be devastating when used correctly. However, it is worth noting that after you succeed in taking over a building, there’s nothing stopping other opponents from doing the same to you.

  • Easy Apex Legends knockdown shield trick will win the final 1v1 – Dexerto

Easy Apex Legends knockdown shield trick will win the final 1v1 Respawn EntertainmentIt takes a lot of effort to reach the final circle in Apex Legends and secure the win, and there’s nothing worse than throwing it all away by losing the final 1v1. But, with the right equipment and a bit of good timing, you can outplay the final enemy – if you know what you’re doing. This trick relies on two key components – you’ll need a strong knockdown shield, preferably gold, and need to be in a 1v1 situation (a 1v2 for example, probably won’t work). The method will allow you to actually lose the final gunfight, but still win the game – all you need to do is get your opponent to perform a finisher near the edge of the ring. Some experienced players may already know about this trick, which is really quite simple when you think about it. Because your character is made totally invulnerable when an enemy is performing a finisher, you will take no damage from being outside the ring. Meanwhile, the enemy performing the finisher will take damage – and if it’s the final circle, chances are it will kill them almost instantly. As demonstrated by Apex player u/Sjborda, after losing gunfight in the 1v1, they simply stick close the edge of the ring, baiting the opponent into performing a finisher with the knockdown shield. By moving very slightly back into the ring, it instantly hands them the win, as the opponent immediately takes too much damage while doing the finisher, eliminating themselves. The trick will really only work in the very late circles, as the ring damage needs to be high enough to eliminate the enemy before they complete the finisher. However, it is possible to do this without a gold knockdown shield, as a purple or even blue might be enough to prompt your opponent into the finisher. But, if you don’t have a teammate left alive, then you’ll need a gold one, otherwise, you won’t be left in the downed state of course. Just make sure your back is totally covered by the storm, so they can’t just go behind you and shoot you instead!

  • How to easily find Flyers in Apex Legends – Dexerto

How to easily find Flyers in Apex Legends One super helpful Apex Legends fan has provided a guide for the best Flyer spawn locations in the King’s Canyon map. Respawn Entertainment have been teasing Flyers like crazy lately, with the first hint dropping during the Season 2 trailer at their EA Play 2019 event at E3. Players then began to see the dragons in-game for the first time, with them spawning right in front of people’s eyes – much to their disbelief. If you’ve been wondering a sure-fire way to encounter them, one eagle-eyed fan has compiled a spawn location list. Where do Flyers spawn? Reddit user ‘FrozenFoh‘ is well known on the official Apex Legends subreddit for his guides and insight into possible leaks, and his latest upload details all the spawn locations for the fiery creatures. Skull Town seems to be a hot spot for the Flyers, with seven possible spawn locations occurring near it. The nearby Thunderdome has no known appearances, possibly because it’s one of the best loot spots and is almost always overpopulated which scares them away. King’s Canyon’s east side is very barren in terms of spawns, with the Swamp having no Flyers at all. Fans theorize that this is because of the tall trees, or ‘Nessy’ the Loch Ness Monster. Players have clocked appearances around the north-west side of the map, mainly at Air Base, Runoff, and Slum Lakes. Though, The Pits are seemingly a Flyer no-show. The south side seems to be the best bet for encountering a dragon, with the Water Treatment area alone having three known spawn locations. We could see bigger dragons There’s no concrete reason as to why the Flyers have suddenly invaded King’s Canyon, but a recent post by infamous Apex data miner ‘That1MiningGuy’ showed that there’s a possibility of much larger dragons coming at some point in the near future. The data miner referred to the current Flyers as ‘scouts’, and said that players can possibly expect to see bigger dragons soon. He also brought up the possibility of swarms – another obvious link to Titanfall, where they ripped ships out of the sky. So to everyone thinking the current flyers are pushovers… my theory is that these are the scouts, the little guys, we’ll have bigger ones, and swarms soon enough. Also MU1_Leviathan realllllly makes me think we’ll be seeing a third larger leviathan. (Probably the real L001) pic.twitter.com/TWjwUc8U4J — That1MiningGuy (@That1MiningGuy) June 19, 2019 Flying dragons are already a daunting threat, so the idea of bigger ones and even hordes of them coming is a frightening one. Players should start to prepare for an all-out war just in case.

  • Eagle-eyed Apex Legends players spot odd Triple Take change in Season 14 trailer – Dexerto

Eagle-eyed Apex Legends players spot odd Triple Take change in Season 14 trailer Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends Season 14 trailer is out and some observant fans have noticed that Respawn made a unique (and maybe accidental) change to the Triple Take in the promo. Each new Apex Legends season brings a wealth of new content to the game. From a new Legend to new skins for several guns, there’s always a ton to dig into with each new chapter in the story of the Apex Games. This time around both Caustic and the Triple Take have received some fun new visuals but some fans believe they’ve spotted an error in the build of the long-range gun. Apex Legends Season 14 trailer features a one-of-a-kind Triple Take The moment comes towards the end of the gameplay trailer when the new Battle Pass rewards are being shown off. Several legends parade out in front of the camera rocking their all-new gear and giving players a good first look at what’s to come. When it gets to Caustic though, he’s sprinting with a Triple Take that doesn’t quite look as it should. There’s no scope of any kind attached to the gun, not even the bulky sight is naturally attached when players pick it up. This was first spotted in a now-deleted Reddit post where fans were having a good laugh over the situation. One fan joked that the Energy-based rifle was getting the makeover it always needed, calling the Triple Take the “best shotgun in the game.” However, another commenter brought up an optimistic view and thinks that it could have been completely intentional. “It might ight be a holographic or projected sight,” they suggested. There’s no way of knowing if this was a simple mistake from the devs or if it really is a part of the upcoming Battle Pass right now, but everyone will have the answer for certain when Season 14 kicks off on August 9.

  • EA’s war on Apex Legends cheaters just got even more serious – Dexerto

EA’s war on Apex Legends cheaters just got even more serious Respawn Entertainment/UnsplashElectronic Arts, the publishers behind Apex Legends, are stepping up the fight against cheaters and hackers by developing their own anti-cheat team. Like the vast majority of multiplayer titles, Apex Legends has suffered through a number of issues with cheats and exploits. Respawn Entertainment has already banned an eye-watering number of hackers and even taken their “war on cheaters” to the next level with new learning software. Yet, that hasn’t stopped those players who want to cheat from cheating – as some even take the misstep of showing off their cheats to the world via Twitch. Now, though, it appears as if both EA and Respawn are looking to consign cheaters to the trash once and for all and rid Kings Canyon of its problem. On July 22, EA posted an Anti-Cheat Program Manager position to Hitmarker Jobs, stating that they’re on the hunt for a “highly skilled Anti-Cheat Program Manager” who can help drive “various security initiatives” solely for Apex. Whoever takes on the role will be tasked with clamping down on everything from low-level in-game cheaters to people who sell exploits, but do so without taking down the wider Apex community. There will also be an opportunity to build a “dedicated studio anti-cheat team from the ground up,” so only the best of the best will nr working on stamping out the in-game exploits. Of course, cheating isn’t the only big issue affecting Apex Legends at the moment – with the community currently up in the arms about the game’s current shift in meta. While cheaters are rewarded with insane accuracy, invincibility, or even knowing the location of enemy players, non-aggressive players and campers are being showered in ranked points for not taking fights and surviving until the late game. Unlike cheating, this new meta issue isn’t something that either EA or Respawn can stamp out with new software or a brand-new team dedicated to the issue.

  • EA wants to make Apex Legends “more new player friendly” in 2024 – Dexerto

EA wants to make Apex Legends “more new player friendly” in 2024 Electronic ArtsPublisher EA is looking to make Apex Legends “more new player friendly” in 2024 and claimed the battle royale has a reputation “for being very hard.” With Apex Legends beginning Season 20 in February of 2024, the battle royale has officially been around for just over five years. Since then, many veteran players have perfected their gunplay and movement tech in Respawn Entertainment’s fast-paced shooter. However, it seems that publisher EA may want to even the playing field a bit and has outlined plans to make the game “more new player friendly” starting in 2024. Apex Legends to become “new player friendly” in 2024 According to EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson during the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference (as relayed by VGC) on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, the team’s top priority is to make Apex Legends “more new player friendly” in the coming year. Wilson said, “It’s an incredible game, it’s a core game, it’s not for the faint of heart when you come into it, and that’s part of its charm and part of why people love it. But job number one for us is, how do we make that a little more new player friendly?” Considering veteran Apex Legends players have had five years of experience to get ahead of the competition, it’s no surprise that EA is taking a look at the battle royale’s legacy and reevaluating new players’ starting points. Wilson said these new player-friendly plans began with Season 20 and will continue in 2024. Apex’s Lead Battle Royale Designer Josh Mohan weighed in on this plan as well. “I want Apex in five years to be a place for everybody,” he said. “I think sometimes we can get a reputation for being a very hard, competitive game, and I want that to remain at its core, but I also want the game to be a large space to entice more people to come and join in.” The team also spoke about expanding Apex “beyond the traditional battle royale universe” and said players could expect to see that in 2024 as well. How EA and Respawn Entertainment plan to make Apex Legends more new player-friendly remains a mystery, but it seems fans can expect some pretty big changes throughout the rest of the year.

  • EA wants to increase the pace of Apex Legends updates ahead of $1bn milestone – Dexerto

EA wants to increase the pace of Apex Legends updates ahead of $1bn milestone Respawn EntertainmentElectronic Arts has expressed ever-growing interest in Respawn increasing how many updates and major events they ship in Apex Legends as their popular battle royale title races towards a new $1bn milestone. Apex Legends continues to rake in money for Electronic Arts, the gaming giants have revealed in their second-quarter 2022 earnings call with investors. Since its release in 2019, the battle royale has made more than $1.6 billion USD via cosmetics, character packs, and Apex coin sales. The game, which hit new heights for most active players in Seasons 9 and 10, is now on the verge of making $1 billion every year, executive Andrew Wilson announced. The monster earnings have certainly tickled EA’s fancy. The Californian company has already cranked up its revenue targets for 2022, and is now expecting to make $7.64bn across their wheelhouse, which includes flagship titles like Apex Legends and the FIFA sports franchise. On top of that, Wilson has announced EA is very interested in “delivering more content” in Apex Legends via updates and new events, as long as it “makes sense.” Apex Legends has settled into a fairly regular scheduled content-wise over the past few seasons, so many changes to the status quo there would see a significant increase in new skins, map updates, and game balance. Recent seasons have seen Respawn follow the same guideline: a major Apex Legends seasonal update that introduces characters, guns, and in the case of Season 11 this week, a whole new battle royale map. Character-focused Collection events like “Evolution” or “Genesis” then act as Apex’s mid-season releases. One thing that the Apex Legends devs have already begun working on is the return of limited-time modes (LTMs), which have been absent in recent updates. These popular playlists are returning this season. Respawn developer Steven Ferreira confirmed the return last week: “I’m not going to spoil what they are, but we will get more LTMs and events this season, for sure.” Loyal Apex Legends players haven’t exactly been starved of content in their favorite battle royale over the last few months either. Just this week, the Season 11 update added Ash — an old Titanfall villain updated for the game — as well as a new SMG, and the immense and tropical Storm Point map. This season will also see the Apex Legends Market crossover finally get underway, and Respawn is even open to bringing Titans to the game eventually.

  • EA support member gives an unbelievable response to an Apex Legends Reddit user – Dexerto

EA support member gives an unbelievable response to an Apex Legends Reddit user Respawn’s take on the world of battle royale with Apex Legends seems to have everyone enjoying themselves right now and a recent Reddit post couldn’t be a better way to show exactly that… This free-to-play battle royale looks to have captivated gamers around the world, while detaching players from other battle royale games also. In a recent Reddit post, a user contacted an EA support member about a refund for their Origin Access annual membership, which led to an incredibly hilarious exchange. Dvitash went on to say: “you ‘tryna’ play Apex,” and unbelievably it quickly turned into a promise to play together. With ‘Dvitash’ playing as Wraith with over 400 kills to his name, and the EA support member playing as Bangalore, they were set to play after his shift had ended. Apex Legends was probably the only game that could have resulted in the above. Reddit users were also frantically trying to work out whether they actually played together, although circulating rumors suggest they didn’t go into combat together. Respawn’s Apex Legends seems to also have relatively few problems currently although the above conversation highlights one of the only potential issues. Apex is also a free-to-play game and provides better in-game content than some costly games. Is this one of the most unbelievable Reddit threads you have seen? Did they actually finally play together in the end? Get in touch with us via twitter @TitanfallBlog to let us know your thoughts.

  • EA share price plummets because of Apex Legends Season 2 say analysts – Dexerto

EA share price plummets because of Apex Legends Season 2 say analysts EAFans of Apex Legends have been enjoying the launch of Season 2, but it hasn’t been all good news for publisher EA, as share prices dropped more than 5% in spite of, or perhaps because of, the new season. Players waited a long time for the launch of Season 2 after over a month’s delay, and while it was able to deliver what they wanted, it appears it wasn’t enough to impress investors as EA’s share price dropped to its lowest point in five months. Apex Legends exploded in popularity out of the gate but hasn’t been able to capture that lightning in a bottle since. Twitch viewership is way down In a report by CNBC, it’s suggested that the plummeting Twitch viewership is one reason the share prices have taken a hit. After consistently being around 100,000 concurrent viewers, the game now finds itself at a much more modest 20,000-30,000 viewer count on average. Read More: Fortnite – but that growth has undoubtedly slowed. However, Michael ‘shroud‘ Grezsiek has been one of the very big streamers that have consistently been streaming Apex since its launch of Season 2. It’s almost guaranteed that Dr Disrespect would’ve spent time on the game if not for his ban from Twitch as a result of his E3 IRL stream. When he makes his return, we’ll have to see if he decides to stream Apex or something else. Player engagement is still going well Analyst Jeff Cohen said EA’s share price dropping like this is “pretty drastic and definitely feels oversold,” according to CNBC. Cohen does say the engagement of Apex Legends on Reddit and the number of Twitch channels streaming the game are still encouraging. Would cross-play help? An investment advisor at Gerber Kawasaki Inc says a move to cross-platform will help Apex Legends bounce back, according to Bloomberg. “A lot of people were expecting this season to kind of blow them out the water,” Nick Licouris, an investment adviser covering video games at Gerber Kawasaki Inc said to Bloomberg.. “I wasn’t too impressed” and EA really needs Apex Legends to be cross-platform in order to take to it to the next level. “That was one great thing that Fortnite did.” According to Business Insider, the update failed to ease concerns over Apex’s potential to compete with Fortnite. For what it’s worth, Activision and Take-Two, two of EA’s competitors, fell 3.4% and 1.9% respectively so it might not be all on Apex Legends. Stocks fluctuating is no surprise to see and if Apex Legends continues to perform well going forward, we can expect to see the stocks bounce back. –

EA servers down? Apex Legends & FIFA players reporting outages EAPlayers across all EA titles, including FIFA 20 and Apex Legends, are reporting problems logging in on August 30. Fans quickly voiced their concerns on social media, and the developers confirmed they are looking into the issues. The official EA Help site has acknowledged the server problems, confirming they’re working on a fix. “In the meantime, you might not be able to connect to online modes, buy games on Origin or log in to your account,” the message reads. Something’s up with our online services, but we’re on it. In the meantime, you might not be able to connect to online modes, buy games on Origin, or log in to your account. We’ll get you back in your game as soon as we can. — EA Help (@EAHelp) August 30, 2020 Down Detector showed massive spikes in players reporting crashes on games like Apex Legends. There’s never a good time for game servers to go down, but considering the stay at home orders across major regions of the globe, this is certainly one of the least ideal times. At least you can rest easy knowing that you’re not alone in your problems. Currently, the issue is plaguing players on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, so there’s nobody safe from the problems. • EA reveals Apex Legends has generated over $3.4 billion in revenue – Dexerto

EA reveals Apex Legends has generated over $3.4 billion in revenue Respawn EntertainmentDuring the company’s Q4 and 2024 fiscal year earnings call, Electronic Arts revealed that the Apex Legends battle royale has earned the gaming giant over $3 billion in revenue across its five-year lifespan. According to comments made in the full document outlining the contents of EA’s most recent fiscal earnings call, CEO Andrew Wilson said, “Since its surprise, smash-hit release in 2019, the HD title of Apex Legends has surpassed $3.4 billion in lifetime net bookings.” For those unaware, net bookings essentially means revenue generated after any deductions or fees have been taken out of the final amount. It isn’t $3.4 billion in profit, but the fact that in-game cosmetics for a free-to-play game has generated that much revenue in a little over five years is staggering. Apex Legends was released on February 4, 2019, and has just recently reached Season 21, the latest in a long-running series of content updates that have kept players glued to the game. Wilson went on to address some of the changes the publisher focused on in fiscal year 2024 to position Apex Legends for “future revenue growth.” “For example, we finished the year with significant changes to the mechanics of our popular Ranked Mode,” the CEO disclosed. “We engaged with the community, increased transparency, and thoughtfully addressed their feedback, and, as a result, saw dramatic improvements in player sentiment scores around the world.” Apex Legends’ Ranked mode has been a hot-button issue among the community for some time, with developer Respawn constantly tweaking and changing elements of the game mode each season. However, Ranked has consistently had issues since its introduction, with prominent members of the Apex community, such as pro player Imperial Hal calling out the abundance of teamers and cheaters in the mode throughout Season 20. Wilson also explained that the company “prioritized expanding Apex’s appeal” in FY24, to make it easier for new players to get on board despite the game being over 20 seasons deep. In particular, the CEO cited the popular Three Strikes and Straight Shot LTMs as cornerstones of this decision. To conclude the Apex Legends section of the call, Wilson said: “Looking to the future, we will continue to invest in broadening the audience by building upon the epic characters of this world that go beyond the current Battle Royale.” Interestingly, Season 21’s new Legend, Alter, lacked a dedicated lore video for the first time in years—something fans expressed disappointment in.

  • EA reveal plans to release Apex Legends on mobile devices – Dexerto

EA reveal plans to release Apex Legends on mobile devices Respawn/EAEA have confirmed that they plan to release Apex Legends on mobile devices, as part of their conference call on May 7. The battle royale genre was taken by storm when Respawn Entertainment launched Apex Legends on February 4, and its success has sent a message to EA to get it into more players’ hands. Apex Legends hit the ground running as soon as it launched as it garnered a massive player base of 50 million players in record time. But that number is soon to grow even further with plans to bring it to more consoles. In a May 7 conference call, EA announced their plans to bring the popular shooter to more platforms as it looks to further grow the number of combatants to land in King’s Canyon. In the meeting, the publisher confirmed that their battle royale was their fastest growing new game with around 30% of Apex players being new to EA products. With that in mind, the company said they’ll be focusing on delivering new content throughout a “long term service” which will include new Legends and the like. The incredible rise in popularity has led the publisher to look into the possibilities of releasing Apex Legends to more gaming platforms as well as bigger markets. EA confirmed later in the conference call that they plan to bring Apex Legends to China and to mobile devices. Expands on the final bullet point above. — Daniel Ahmad (@ZhugeEX) May 7, 2019 Is Apex Legends coming to the Nintendo Switch? With news from the latest conference call, Nintendo Switch players hoping to participate in the Apex Games have a new hope to cling onto as the publisher is set on expanding the reach for the title. EA said they were going to bring Apex Legends to mobile devices which should skyrocket their already impressive reach. $EA Conference Call (Continued): – Many players are trying games/series they’ve never played before due to the large library on Access/Origin. – Use engagement seen inside the subscription service to decide which games to add to the service + greenlight new titles/genres/IP.— Daniel Ahmad (@ZhugeEX) May 7, 2019 This is an incredibly good sign for those hoping to one day see Apex Legends on the Nintendo Switch. Although getting the game onto mobile devices might take precedence over a Nintendo Switch port in the near future, it would definitely pave the way for players to someday find Apex Legends in the Nintendo eShop. EA and Respawn Entertainment have been hard at work to get as many players in their servers as possible, and the latest announcements are sure to get more people landing in King’s Canyon soon.

  • EA respond to concerns that Apex Legends could hurt Battlefield 5’s Firestorm battle royale – Dexerto

EA respond to concerns that Apex Legends could hurt Battlefield 5’s Firestorm battle royale EA / RespawnRespawn’s Apex Legends has taken the gaming industry by storm, bringing a whole different feel to the battle royale experience, but it’s left EA in a tricky situation where they’re having to convince investors that the project won’t hinder Battlefield 5 Firestorm. The new Battlefield game, which is set to be released during Spring of this year, will potentially compete not only against Fortnite and PUBG, but another battle royale game from their own publisher with Apex Legends. Speaking to investors, the CEO of EA Andrew Wilson has tried to reassure interested parties that there is space for both of them in the extremely competitive current market. “What we have seen is that the community who plays these types of games is hundreds of millions of people strong,” Wilson explained during EA’s Q3 Investors call. “Given the size of the community, given the different types of gameplay even with the battle royale genre, we believe those two modes will fit very well together in the community.” Read More: Is Ranked Play coming to Apex Legends? – During the same call, EA revealed that Battlefield 5’s sales had not met their expectations, since its release in November of last year, sparking curiosity about how the gaming giant was going to be able to have both Apex Legends and Firestorm succeed together – highlighting similarities. “While they sit inside the battle royale genre, they are two very different types of experiences,” Wilson added, before admitting that “on some level, there may also be some crossover.” Apex Legends is already standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Fortnite and PUBG for concurrent players, but the EA chief believes that there’s something unique about Battlefield that will allow its own battle royale experience to also flourish. “We think that there is an opportunity to deliver the fast-paced gameplay that is Apex Legends and where that game goes to a big part of the community,” he said. “Also, the strategic play, the vehicle play, the things that are unique to the Battlefield battle royale mode, will offer differentiation of play for a different part of that community.“

With the Apex Legends Global Series Split 2 Playoffs coming up in Sweden, 40 of the best teams around the globe are set to fly out one of the first major LAN events in recent years. Players across North and South America, EMEA, along with APAC North and South have all been competing in lengthy qualifiers in hopes of reaching this million-dollar event. However, not all successful teams were shown the same level of support upon qualifying. At first, EA was allegedly set to cover the costs of flights and accommodation for just 19 teams, according to Liquipedia editor ApexFlatline.’ Outrage quickly ensued as remaining teams were forced to find their own funding and pay their own way to Stockholm. Apex pros & streamers support top ALGS teams “EA will be paying for the expenses only for the top five teams in APAC North, EMEA, and NA and top 2 teams in APAC South and SA,” ApexFlatline revealed in a March 30 Reddit post. EA and Respawn announce $3m Apex Legends Global Series competition EA and Respawn Entertainment have announced the Apex Legends Global Series – an international multi-tournament esports program with a whopping $3 million in total prize pool. Since the game’s launch in February of 2019, Respawn’s battle royale was an instant hit, with its potential as an esports title immediately realized. Events such as Twitch Rivals and X-Games gave fans and players a taste of what to expect with competitive Apex Legends — before Respawn stepped up the game with the $500,000 Preseason Invitational. On December 17, the future of the esport has been unveiled with the Global Series from EA and Respawn. The competition will begin on January 25, 2020, and will be for PC players from over 60 countries. Initially set to feature 12 live events (in addition to online competition) EA and Respawn will ‘self-execute’ some of these events, while others will be operated by PGL and GLL. The competition is open to all players on PC, with registration starting in early January. Players must be over 16 to participate, or 17 in Japan and 18 in Russia or South Korea. Full rules can be found on the Apex Legends website. “The competitive journey for many will start with online competition, with competitors potentially advancing to live, regional Challenger Events and global Premier Events,” EA explained. “Players will earn Apex Legends Global Series Points for their performances in online and certain live events and those atop the standings will be invited to the four Apex Legends Global Series Majors, the highest competitive live event tier.” Apex Legends Global Series structure Hopeful players will need to earn Global Series points to earn an invitation to the first of four Majors, which will take place on March 13-15, and feature 100 of the best three-player squads. Apex Legends is the only Battle Royale esport to feature this uniquely exciting end game mechanic.” Apex Legends’ “immense esports potential” Head of Respawn, Vince Zampella, has said that “competition is at the heart of Apex Legends,” and expects esports to play a “big role” in the future of the game. John Nelson, Competitive Gaming Commissioner for Apex Legends, believes that the game “possesses immense esports potential. “Through close communication with our community, we’ve built an accessible Apex Legends ecosystem where any player can become a potential star while the world watches our unique, entertaining take on Battle Royale esports.” There will perhaps be some disappointment for console players on PS4 and Xbox One, where Apex is also immensely popular. It’s unknown at this time if controller on PC will be permitted in the Global Series, as is possible in Fortnite. More details about the Apex Legends Global Series is set to come soon, closer to launch in January.

  • EA reportedly shut down Apex Legends revenue sharing after teams requested 50/50 split – Dexerto

EA reportedly shut down Apex Legends revenue sharing after teams requested 50/50 split Electronic Arts, publishers of Apex Legends, shut down revenue-sharing talks with esports teams through in-game skins after top-tier organizations came together to request a 50/50 split of revenue on the items. In the past 12 months, a number of high-profile esports organizations have exited Apex Legends esports, with some, such as Team Liquid, directly citing monetization issues as part of their decision. It was rumored that EA had reneged on an agreement to provide revenue sharing through in-game skins with team branding, leading to frustration among esports teams. According to a report from Digiday, EA initially offered a flat $60,000 fee for each team. The majority of the 20 teams involved responded, imploring EA to implement an uncapped 50/50 revenue share instead. What happened to Apex Legends revenue share with esports teams? EA reportedly changed their minds on the revenue-sharing idea, which led to the initial offer of a flat $60,000 fee for each team. The teams felt this was “far below fair”, and made reference to the much more lucrative revenue shares available in other esports titles. Although the specific game is not mentioned, Valorant and CS:GO have both generated seven-figure sums for esports organizations through their revenue share schemes, with skin bundles and team/player stickers respectively. In response, a letter led by TSM and Liquid and signed by 14 of the 20 teams was sent to EA. “We are not comfortable with the proposed licensing offer, nor do we believe that the decisions made around it have been done so in good faith,” the letter stated, requesting the uncapped 50/50 revenue share. EA’s response was a revised offer that still avoided revenue sharing. Instead, payouts would be based on which teams’ skins would sell the most: The top three would receive $160,000, the next three, $120,000, the following six, $80,000, and the bottom eight, $60,000. When the teams countered yet again with a request for 50/50 revenue share, EA reportedly shut the dialogue down, stating they would “internally discuss” how they would work with the orgs in the future for “mutually beneficial partnerships”. The esports team skins were due to release in October 2022, but the dispute was still ongoing behind the scenes in mid-September. Later that month, the skins were leaked by a renowned dataminer. The previous ALGS in-game items were only player banners, a much less desirable cosmetic than skins, and the sales of these items were poor. One team exec said that they were not involved with the designs and that they were “a product that nobody wanted.” But these low sales perhaps discouraged EA from the revenue-sharing plans. Unlike other publishers and developers in esports, a team exec said, EA and Respawn only looked at the financial calculation of the skin sales, rather than the contribution of esports to the overall ecosystem. “Maybe the teams are not going to push the sales 20% more than what it would have been, but you know, these teams invest in our ecosystem, they do free marketing for us with them being in an esports programme’. […] Respawn and EA don’t think like that.” It seems apparent that this failed revenue-sharing project played a part in the decision of teams like Liquid, G2 Esports, NAVI, Cloud9 and SSG to leave Apex esports entirely.

  • EA patents Apex Legends ping system but want other games to use it – Dexerto

EA patents Apex Legends ping system but want other games to use it Respawn/EAEA have secured a patent for Apex Legends’ revolutionary ping system, but they openly want other games to use it as well. When Apex Legends first launched in February of 2019, it was clear that Respawn and EA had a massive hit on their hands. The unique take on the battle royale genre introduced a whole host of new features – including the ping system and respawn beacons – that have since been taken and adapted in rival games. While the top battle royale titles share a lot of the same features these days, EA have managed to bag a patent for Apex’s pinging system, and they’re open to anybody using it. The current ping system makes it easy for players without the ability to voice chat in-game to still work together as a team. It can help prevent toxic atmospheres between random teammates, which is why EA are open to sharing their patent and technology with other game developers. “By sharing these accessibility patents, we hope to encourage and support other developers to do the same,” Chris Bruzzo, EVP of Positive Play, commercial and marketing at EA told Gamesradar. EA has officially patented the Ping system in Apex Legends. However, they are allowing all developers to use it for accessibility. “”We hope developers will make the most of these patents by building similar features in their own video games that make them more inclusive.”” pic.twitter.com/rXMPi9zDUU — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) August 24, 2021 Bruzzo wants developers to band together to follow the EA Accessibility patent pledge, where they’re offering up their technology to others in a bid to make games more accessible to all. “We need to work together as an industry. We hope developers will make the most of these patents by building similar features in their own video games that make them more inclusive,” Bruzzo added. It’s unclear as to what game or developer will make the leap and be first to use the patent but seeing how well it’s worked in Apex, there will likely be a few lining up to use it.

EA’s extremely strict rules for hosting competitive Apex Legends events revealed RespawnElectronic Arts have announced their Community Tournament Guidelines for ‘non-licensed’ Fortnite Battle Royale after racking up over 50 million players in its first month. After that initial boom, the game’s developer released the highly anticipated content of their season one battle pass – but left some fans disappointed by their offering. Since then, the title has slowly lost its way in terms of popularity, slipping down in player base and viewers on live streaming platforms like Twitch. Apex Legends competitive scene While some organizations were quick to jump into the game’s competitive scene, there has been no official plans, as of the time of writing, put in place by Respawn for an esport path – leaving only outside parties to organize their own events and tournaments. However, those organizers may be in trouble after EA announced their hugely restrictive guidelines for events. One of the huge standout points from the announcement is that each organizer is only allowed to offer up to $10,000 in prize pools per year. Tournaments are allowed to be broadcast, however, not via television channels. There is also a restriction on the income that the broadcast can make – also set at $10,000 USD, or an equivalent in a different local currency. A number of pro players have already voiced their concerns about the rules. UYU’s Chris ‘BixLe’ Dunbar tweeted: “With some of these restrictions, I feel like they should at least throw the community organizers a bone and let them use custom matches. During an ongoing exchange on the ranked EU server, an Apex Legends player has had their account stolen by someone claiming to work for EA, the game’s publisher. After having shown the offensive player their in-game account, which included everything from Predator badges to the highly coveted Heirlooms, the theif has stolen the account, continually changing the email address and password to assure it remains locked. It gets even more bizarre, though, as Reddit user karankhushalani explains exactly what has been happening over the past few days. EA employee accused of stealing Apex Legends account As most players would, Karan immediately reached out to EA support in an attempt to wrestle back control of the account. However, things quickly went from bad to worse. “So I went to EA support, got it recovered, and thought well that was weird but I have it back now. I am literally in the MIDDLE of the recovery process that I’ve memorized in the last 48 hours after seven resets (they deactivate account, they change email, they send you a link to change pass, then they reactivate) and he changes the email back! Every single time he steals my account I don’t get any email at all, no ‘your email changed,’ no 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) codes, nothing.” From here, the culprit proceeded to contact him again on Discord. “He adds me back on discord in the middle of my 3rd support request now, and starts telling me ‘let me know when you’re done talking to Yaman (my current support rep). I’m waiting.’” This is quickly followed up with a claim that the thief works for EA. Finally, a support representative called Xar passed the issue onto his senior after having seen Karan’s screenshots of the Discord chat, who claims that the issue is “more than likely an employee abusing his access.” EA’s ‘Xar’ advised that they would investigate the persona used by an individual on EA support account (real names are often not used by the support members), and that the player should wait for an update. This apparently isn’t a single isolated incident, however. Karan notes that another friend had an account containing four heirlooms stolen, and there are ten other incidents reported on the internet.

  • EA confirms new details for long-awaited Apex Legends mobile release – Dexerto

EA confirms new details for long-awaited Apex Legends mobile release Respawn Entertainment / TechworldThe release of a mobile version of Respawn’s flagship battle royale title Apex Legends is coming ever closer, with new details on the development of the handheld title revealed by EA in their third-quarter earnings call. Rumblings of a portable version of Apex Legends first began during Season 2. The news was met with a wave of excitement by players who love to game on the move, but EA and Respawn Entertainment made it clear there was no official release date. Now, the title’s publishers have confirmed in their Q3 report that they are working with a Chinese partner to “create a mobile Apex Legends that will be released globally,” as first reported by industry insider and analyst Daniel Ahmad. What this means is that it’s full steam ahead for the awaited mobile launch, after months of being left in the dark — with Electronic Arts locking down a publishing partner, the ball is well and truly rolling for portable gamers. “Rolling mobile out in China, you need to have a partner, and we’re, as we’ve said in the prepared remarks today, working with a partner there. We’re very excited about the opportunity,” EA chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen confirmed. Jorgensen, who fielded a series of investor questions during a post-conference Q&A session, also confirmed that the same Chinese partner had been locked into preparing a global release for Apex Legends mobile. Developer locked, but no release date — yet While that’s good news, EA has yet to deliver a proper release date, likely considering it’s so early in the partnership with the unnamed developer. Jorgensen added that there was “more to come on that in terms of timing” soon. This isn’t the first time EA has turned to Chinese developers to bring to life mobile versions of their flagship titles either. The American gaming company published FIFA Online 4 and Need for Speed Online with Chinese conglomerate Tencent. Tencent also owns Riot Games, who have developed titles like League of Legends and Legends of Runterra. The Chinese company also helms the biggest mobile title on the planet, Arena of Valor, and recently partnered with Activision to create a massively popular mobile version of FPS franchise Call of Duty. Electronic Arts has confirmed they’re working with a partner in China to create a mobile Apex Legends that will be released globally. For reference. Activision worked with Tencent for Call of Duty Mobile. Blizzard partnered with NetEase for Diablo Immortal. pic.twitter.com/oCJzlsksi3 — Daniel Ahmad (@ZhugeEX) January 30, 2020 Is Apex Legends coming to Nintendo Switch soon? While all of this is fantastic news for mobile and tablet fanatics, there’s one set of players who were once again left out in the cold: Nintendo Switch gamers. Respawn developer Drew McCoy confirmed back in April last year that Switch users should “stay tuned for the future” in regards to a potential move to the Nintendo console. EA’s Q3 call from this week seems to have damned those rumors, however. According to Ahmed, the publishers revealed they were “pleased” with how well the Switch has been performing, and said they were “looking to put more games on the platform,” but added those releases wouldn’t be coming any time soon. For now, Apex Legends fans may have to make do with playing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, as Season 4 appears on the horizon. In the new season, titled ‘Assimilation,’ players will be able to get their hands on new legend, the deadly robot Revenant, as well as a strange new Sentinel sniper rifle, an updated Battle Pass, refreshed ranked play, and “big map changes.” Season 4 launches Tuesday, February 4.

  • EA confirm when Apex Legends Season 2 will be revealed – Dexerto

EA confirm when Apex Legends Season 2 will be revealed EAEA announced fans will be able to look forward to the reveal of Apex Legends Season 2 during E3 2019. If you’re a player that has grown tired with Season 1 of Apex Legends, you can look forward to the debut of Season 2, which will be shown off in June during EA’s E3 2019 press conference, according to EA’s earning call, as reported by IGN. Season 1 was met with a lot of excitement that quickly turned into disappointment across the player base as many deemed the Battle Pass was lackluster and there wasn’t enough to keep playing for after it was completed. Respawn promised to fix this going forward and we’ll be able to get our first look at these changes once the Season 2 Battle Pass is unveiled. When is EA’s conference at E3 2019? Fans will be able to tune into EA Play on June 7 to receive all the information about Apex Legends and other EA published and developed titles. Apex Legends was a surprise hit for the publisher after it launched with no marketing outside of having a variety of streamers play it on day one. What can we expect with Season 2? Respawn promised to improve on the Season 1 Battle Pass with better content and possibly a map change, according to a blog post. For Season 2 you can expect a Battle Pass with more meaningful content, the introduction of a new Legend, the debut of a new weapon . . . and you didn’t expect King’s Canyon to stay the same forever, did you? New Legends are pretty much a certainty as well and there’s a lot out there on a Legend named Wattson, someone who currently isn’t in the game. However, shroud warns fans to not get their hopes up too much. For more concrete information, fans will have to wait until E3.

  • EA confirm Apex Legends releasing in China despite ongoing cheating issues – Dexerto

EA confirm Apex Legends releasing in China despite ongoing cheating issues Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends publishers Electronic Arts have confirmed that the game will be released in China, and there’s already speculation swirling around about how that will affect its rampant cheating issue. EA held their most recent conference call on May 7, where they discussed the future of their major assets, including their behemoth battle royale title Apex Legends. Daniel Ahmad, who covers the digital games market in China and Southeast Asia, reported that EA plan on expanding Apex Legends to other markets around the world, one of which will be China. According to Ahmad, EA have a strong relationship with the video game publishing division of Chinese super-company Tencent, having just released the region-exclusive FIFA Online 4 with them last year. This points to EA releasing Apex Legends in China through Tencent, which makes sense considering that the company already publishes some huge titles like Call of Duty Online, League of Legends, Fortnite, PUBG, and more. $EA Conference call – Strong partnership with Tencent in China. FIFA Online 4 launched last year in the country. – Will continue to dedicate resources to China/Asia market. – Haven’t seen anything from China trade talk that would negatively effect EA. – Apex planned for China— Daniel Ahmad (@ZhugeEX) May 7, 2019 EA confirmed later in the conference call that they plan to bring Apex Legends to China and to mobile devices. Expands on the final bullet point above. — Daniel Ahmad (@ZhugeEX) May 7, 2019 How do people play Apex Legends in China now? The fact that Apex Legends hasn’t been released in China hasn’t stopped the country’s inhabitants to still enjoy the game. In order to play the game, players simply use VPN services that bounce their IP address to a different region, giving them access to the servers. Without doing this, players are either unable to download Apex Legends, and those that do manage to get their hands on the game, find their access to the servers blocked. What this means for massive cheating problem? It’s not secret that Apex Legends is infested with many cheaters and hackers, many of whom are believed to be playing from China. These Chinese hackers are able to cheat without consequence because their IPs are virtually untraceable due to the VPN, which means that they can hack without having to fear being banned from the servers. However, assuming that it will be region locked, the release of Apex Legends in China could have a positive affect on this issue as it could compel many players to stop using these VPNs and simply play within their region. Unfortunately, as a developer from Respawn Entertainment has pointed out before, this won’t completely stop hackers from the region, as they can simply stick to using VPNs to bypass the region lock and continue to cheat. It’s also important to keep in mind, many players who use VPNs to connect to other regions’ servers face major connection issues, which can be a frustrating experience for everyone involved. That being said, while we don’t know yet how releasing Apex Legends in China will affect the cheating, it at least will allow players to enjoy the game domestically without having to jump through hoops.

  • EA claims Apex Legends will “prioritize” cheater bans with anti-cheat improvement – Dexerto

EA claims Apex Legends will “prioritize” cheater bans with anti-cheat improvement Respawn/EAEA has confirmed that Apex Legends has “prioritized” the fight against cheaters as they look to tone down toxicity even further moving forward. Just like plenty of other multiplayer games, Apex Legends has had its fair share of headaches with cheaters and hackers ruining matches in the battle royale. Respawn have constantly made strides to tackle these problems including rolling out massive ban waves to takedown some notorious cheaters. However, players have constantly been urging the developers to implement an improved anti-cheat moving forward. The feedback is something that Respawn has taken onboard, as the devs have said they’ve got “very exciting” changes up their sleeve as tackling cheaters is the priority for the popular battle royale. Apex Legends looking to ban more cheaters to battle toxicity It was something Chris Bruzzo, EA’s chief experience officer, touched on during a recent chat with IGN Africa just before the new year, noting that the Apex team is tackling toxicity in a number of ways – with banning cheaters topping the list. “We find that when games are buggy or have cheaters in them, so when there’s no good anti-cheat or when the anti-cheat is falling behind, especially in competitive games, one of the root causes of a huge percentage of toxicity is when players feel like the environment is unfair. That they cannot fairly compete. And what happens is, it angers them,” Bruzzo said. “Because suddenly you’re realizing that there’s others who are breaking the rules and the game is not controlling for that rule-breaking behavior. But you love this game and you’ve invested a lot of your time and energy into it. It’s so upsetting. So we have prioritized addressing cheaters as one of the best ways for us to reduce toxicity in games.” As noted, improvements to anti-cheat is something that the Apex community has sought for a while, and it appears things will be kicked up a notch in 2023. It might not get to a level that everyone wants, but both Respawn and EA are looking into changes, which is progress enough.

  • EA claim Apex Legends Season 3 will be “even bigger,” provide update on mobile launch – Dexerto

EA claim Apex Legends Season 3 will be “even bigger,” provide update on mobile launch EADuring EA’s earnings call they revealed that Apex Legends daily and weekly active players have grown and Season 3 is shaping up to be even bigger than the second. The launch of Apex Legends Season 2 has brought a lot of excitement back to the game since its blazing fast start and the numbers have backed that up. On top of saying the active player count has grown, EA also hinted towards Season 3 by saying that growth will continue, but didn’t go into any detail about what to expect from the new season. Video game analyst Daniel Ahmed gave us highlights of the July 30 earnings call where EA also touched upon how the highly-anticipated mobile launch is still on track along with the China debut. Read more: PUBG and Fortnite have had on a mobile format. The China launch could also help fix the hacking problem that plagues the game on PC. $EA Earnings Call: – Apex Legends will continue to focus on the season update model. – Daily and Weekly active players has grown since S2. – Season 3 shaping up to be even bigger. – Announced new esports tournament for Sep. – China launch and Global mobile launch on track.— Daniel Ahmad (@ZhugeEX) July 30, 2019 Many fans were singing the swan song for Apex Legends but it looks like those concerns can be put to rest now considering how well it’s doing now. Season 2 introduced a lot of fan-favorite features such as a ranked mode and challenges along with introducing a new Legend in Wattson. If EA and Respawn plan to have the launch of Season 3 be even bigger than the first, they’re going to have to pull more out of their bag tricks. Apex Legends is in a pretty good spot right now, but there are still a number of bugs that need fixing, and hit registration leaves a lot to be desired. The developers have done a good job handling the game so far so if they keep on the current path and continue to provide semi-frequent updates, the players will remain happy and the game will grow. –

  • EA CEO confirms delays for Apex Legends Mobile release date – Dexerto

EA CEO confirms delays for Apex Legends Mobile release date Respawn Entertainment / freepikThe release date for the mobile version of Apex Legends is confirmed to have been pushed back, after EA CEO Andrew Wilson provided fans with an update in the company’s quarter two financial results. After recently launching on Steam, and with plans to come out for Nintendo Switch players in the coming months, Respawn are slowly making Apex Legends available for battle royale fans on every platform. With mobile gaming also taking off in recent years, the Apex devs confirmed that a mobile port of the game is also in the works, however, it will be released a little later than initially expected. When Apex Legends Mobile was first announced, it was originally expected to “soft launch” by the end of 2020, but as we enter the final months of the year, EA have now shared another update on its arrival. During their quarter two financial results, EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson announced that the mobile version is still in development and that it is currently expected to finish by early 2021. Wilson revealed that the game will be released at some point during the 2022 fiscal year, which begins on October 1, 2021. Correction: #ApexLegends mobile will be ready to launch in FY22, not Q1. This is October 2021 – September 2022 — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) November 5, 2020 However, the upcoming fiscal year will finish in September 2022, giving the Apex Legends devs a large window to get the mobile port ready for its eventual release. It was previously revealed that the mobile game would launch on both Apple and Android devices, which could add to the time it takes to develop the Mobile version. While it is unclear what exactly is causing these delays, Apex Legends is quite a technical game and with the release of the third Apex Legends map, Olympus, in Season 7, it is continuing to expand. Although EA and Respawn have yet to pick an exact launch date for the mobile title, we now have a better idea of just how long it will take until mobile players can try Apex for themselves.

  • EA cancels Apex Major and multiple FIFA events due to Coronavirus concern – Dexerto

EA cancels Apex Major and multiple FIFA events due to Coronavirus concern EA / RespawnThe Coronavirus outbreak continues to negatively affect upcoming esports events, as Electronic Arts announced that all of their upcoming professional competitive live events for Apex Legends and FIFA 20 have been canceled or postponed. EA made the announcement on March 6 that Apex Legends Global Series and FIFA 20 Global Series events would be impacted by health concerns regarding the outbreak. Online-only competitions are remaining on schedule, but the first major of the Apex Global Series has been postponed, as well as the FIFA CONMEBOL eLibertadores Online event. The FUT Champions Cup Stage V in Bucharest and the FIFA PlayStation Licensed Qualifying Event have both been completely canceled. Our community’s health is our number 1 priority. Here’s an important message regarding upcoming competitive gaming events in the wake of COVID-19: https://t.co/0lsiRHYxUW — Electronic Arts (@EA) March 6, 2020 EA said in their statement, “These decisions haven’t come easy, but given the large, global nature of these events, we believe that making these changes are in the best interest of protecting the health of the community, including competitors, attendees and staff.” Fans who purchased tickets to the live events will be receiving refunds within 4-6 weeks after the announcement. EA claimed they are also “putting their focus into” addressing the reimbursement of air travel and hotel expenses for the canceled or postponed tournaments. The first major of the new Apex Legends Global Series was scheduled to take place in Arlington, Texas from March 13-15. 100 teams were slated to compete for a half a million prize pool in what would have been Apex’s first massive offline esports competition. The second online tournament of the Global Series will still take place March 21 and 23. For pro FIFA fans, the eChampions League Online Qualifiers will still take place on March 14-15, with details regarding the league’s live event to be announced later. With the FUT Champions Cup Stage V being canceled, that marks the second time in the same day that a massive esports event in Bucharest, Hungary has been pulled. Earlier on March 6, the LEC for League of Legends announced its Spring Finals would no longer take place in Bucharest, and would instead take place at the LEC Studio in Berlin. That same day, the LCS, TwitchCon Amsterdam, the FLASHPOINT CS:GO league, and the SXSW convention all announced alterations or cancellations due to the Coronavirus outbreak. • EA apologize as Apex Legends players hit with account bans over nothing – Dexerto

EA apologize as Apex Legends players hit with account bans over nothing Respawn EntertainmentEA has come out and apologized for accidentally banning Apex Legends player accounts, after the publisher’s crackdown on offensive battle royale club names saw players hit with accidental suspensions — a problem the devs are now rushing to fix. On July 29, multiple Apex Legends players saw they had been hit with bans, despite not breaking any terms of service. The reason, many confirmed, was due to their affiliation with a club bearing a name that went against the battle royale’s blacklist charter. The club-based suspensions were only supposed to be warnings, community manager EA_Mako confirmed, and EA are now working to fix their mistake. “My account has been disabled,” a user who goes by ‘KasperIRIS1971’ said. “I received an email with a warning from EA stating that I had gone against guidelines in Apex Legends due to the name of the club I was in. “I went on my Xbox to leave the club or whatever in Apex legends and I was informed that my account has been disabled.” Mako clarified the situation and told the affected person that the blunder happened to a few other people as well, and they’re trying to alleviate the problems soon. How to fix EA account ban to play Apex Legends EA are currently sorting the situation with the disabled accounts. If players notice they’re still banned, there’s steps Mako suggested to take to see if that fixes it. “Sorry for the confusion on this one. While a number of warnings did go out for this, it looks like there were a small number of suspensions that unintentionally accompanied those warnings in some cases,” Mako said. The community manager suggested that affected players should restart Apex Legends, sign out, and sign back in to see if you’re still banned. If that still hasn’t fixed it, then it’s players suggested to reach out to EA’s Terms of Service team to start the account-return process manually. With Apex Legends Season 10: Emergence on the horizon, people will want to make sure their account is up and running before the big update.

  • EA admits Apex Legends Season 17 underperformed financially – Dexerto

EA admits Apex Legends Season 17 underperformed financially Electronic ArtsEA has admitted that Season 17 of Apex Legends, despite eager anticipation from the community at launch, failed to meet expectations in terms of revenue, and that the team at Respawn will take learnings for future seasons. Ahead of Season 18 releasing on August 8, EA addressed the previous season of Respawn’s battle royale in their August earnings call to investors. Typically, EA boasts in these earnings calls of continued strong performance from Apex and the Respawn team, but this time, the feedback was a little more sour. EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson said that while “Apex Legends is one of the strongest franchises and live services in the industry,” Season 17 “did not meet our financial expectations.” Apex Season 17 falls short of revenue expectations The EA CEO said that Apex Legends still maintains 18 million active monthly players, but Season 17’s “new variations of gameplay and monetization” were not enough to meet targets. EA’s CFO, Stuart Canfield, expanded further on the topic of Apex too. “Apex Legends is a highly successful original IP for EA with a strong community of loyal core players. This quarter, net bookings were below expectations largely driven by underperformance from Season 17. “As an evergreen live service that is constantly evolving, our teams continue to innovate on content and introduce new modes of play to engage a broader base of players across different geographies. To echo Andrew, we will continue to invest behind the talented team at Respawn to drive long-term expansion and growth of the franchise.” He also said that they were taking “a more measured approach for Apex Legends as the team applies learnings from Season 17 and introduces new modes of play across various markets.” Season 17 had a number of collection events, which are typically the big revenue drivers, as players will spend money to open packs to complete the collection, and unlock the heirloom or mythic skin. But, major complaints about the Ranked system in Season 17 have been cited as the reason for many players playing less over the past few months, which could have a knock-on effect on the money they spend too. Season 18 of Apex Legends will launch on August 8, and comes with more changes to the Ranked system to hopefully get it back on track. The new season won’t include a new Legend, but instead a rework to existing character Revenant, now known as Revenant Reborn.

  • Duos mode finally coming to Apex Legends for limited time – Dexerto

Duos mode finally coming to Apex Legends for limited time Respawn Entertainment has announced that a duos mode is finally coming to Apex Legends in Season 3, but only for a limited time. Despite being locked to three-man squads since release, Respawn did add a solos mode back in Season 2, and the community absolutely loved it, but the mode also only available for a limited time, disappointing everyone when it was eventually removed. In Season 3, the new Shadowfall LTM allows players to jump into a nighttime version of Kings Canyon, but it doesn’t provide the standard battle royale gameplay players love. Despite solos being added and later removed, there has been no word from Respawn about the potential for a duos mode, until now, finally confirmed on October 30. When are duos coming to Apex Legends? The duos mode will be available in Apex Legends starting on November 5, 2019, confirmed via their official Twitter page. Respawn haven’t given an exact end date for the mode yet, but we can expect it to last as least as long as solo mode did, around two weeks. Starting next week, for a limited time, it takes :victory:. Dive in to Duos 11/5. pic.twitter.com/uJkk7txcNE — Apex Legends (@PlayApex) October 30, 2019 Players will be limited to two players a team, but you’ll still be able to solo queue, and have a random teammate join you. With everyone limited to one teammate, it should create for some even more intense battles, and all the team-based abilities will still be useful, whereas they became fairly redundant in solo mode. In solo mode, for example, the lobby was full of players using Wraith and Pathfinder, as they are likely the best legends for an individual player. In duos, however, legends like Lifeline will be much more useful. Will solo and duo mode come back to Apex Legends? Although fans are happy to see a duos mode added, it does raise the question of why Respawn are averse to adding these modes permanently. When solo mode was added back in August, the developers stated that depending on feedback and players’ experience, they would consider adding it back later. Read More: When is Apex Legends coming to Steam? – Players loved the solo mode and begged for it to be made permanent, as it provided a great alternative if you didn’t want to play with two random teammates every game. However, we’ve not heard any word on solo mode since then. Perhaps once both solo and duos have been tested, Respawn may opt to add one back permanently or rotate the modes intermittently.

  • DSG signs iiTzTimmy’s Apex Legends squad as Disguised ramps up for ALGS Year 4 – Dexerto

DSG signs iiTzTimmy’s Apex Legends squad as Disguised ramps up for ALGS Year 4 DisguisedDSG has signed iiTzTimmy’s Apex Legends team, The Dogo, as Disguised prepares for ALGS Year 4 after being introduced as a partner team. In December 2023, it was announced that Disguised, the esports org founded by streaming giant Jeremy “Disguised Toast” Wang, was part of the 12-team Apex Legends partnership program in Year 4, joining the likes of Fnatic, TSM, and FURIA. And as the first ALGS North American Split approaches, Disguised announced the signing of iiTzTimmy’s The Dojo for the 2024 season. Revealed with a sketch video, The Dojo, comprises streaming megastar Timothy “iiTzTimmy” An, Tyler “Dezignful” Gardner, Alexander “Enemy” Rodriguez, and Deston “Bronzey” Nguyen as their coach. Together they will be playing under the DSG banner moving forward. At the tail-end of ALGS 2023, The Dojo made a surprise qualification for the World Championship through the NA LCQ, and subsequently finished fourth at the Championship. According to Disguised Toast, when DSG entered Apex in 2023, he had already thought about approaching iiTzTimmy and The Dojo, however, didn’t initially go through with it due to the complications with his contract with 100 Thieves at the time. “I actually avoided approaching Timmy last year,” he said, “because people were saying ‘oh you should pick up Timmy, he’s in the World finals, and you guys are friends, so it would make sense,’” Toast explained in the reveal video. “But I just didn’t do it because, I was like, ‘he’s part of 100 Thieves, it’s probably gonna cost me like $10 million to get him to sign with DSG.” Clip starts at 2:37 However, 100 Thieves has allowed iiTzTimmy to compete in Apex under DSG while still being signed on to 100 Thieves as a content creator. “So Timmy is this weird unique unicorn in this ecosystem where he’s part of two esports orgs and I think that’s super cool,” Toast said of the signing. Disguised is slated to compete in the ALGS North America Split 1 on 21 January.

  • DrLupo reveals who the best Apex Legends player is, and it’s not shroud – Dexerto

DrLupo reveals who the best Apex Legends player is, and it’s not shroud Apex Legends is still in the early cycle of its life but emerging stars are already starting to crop up. While some might point to shroud as the best Legend around, DrLupo thinks a rising talent reigns supreme. Apex Legends is Respawn Entertainment’s contribution to the battle royale genre, which has thus far been a mega-hit with fans, bringing in players from all over the gaming space. During a stream on February 22, DrLupo was in disbelief over the insane Apex skills that NRG’s Coby ‘dizzy’ Meadows showed off, leading to a glowing review from the longtime streamer. Y’all, @dizzfila is the best player I have ever seen in @PlayApex. Holy shit. — DrLupo (@DrLupo) February 22, 2019 DrLupo had been knocked from the gaming when squadmate dizzy felt it was time to live up to his name, as he went on an absolute tear that left Lupo completely dumbfounded and literally floored. Dude, it is insane… There are other players that are good: shroud is phenomenal, but you are the best player I have ever seen at Apex by a mile.” It didn’t seem like DrLupo was the only one feeling that way, as his Twitch Chat had collectively lost their minds when seeing dizzy single handedly take down an entire squad in the storm. During that engagement, dizzy showed expert skill in managing aggression to somehow juggle his health, abilities, and the full squad he was facing all while inside the storm that was slowly damaging him. The 18-year-old has won both the Code Red Apex Legends $20k tourney as well as the North American Twitch Rivals: APEX Legends Challenge, and is showing no signs of slowing down. Lupo’s praise sure is high, but it seems it’s very well deserved from the young talent and it will be interesting to see how he develops in Apex Legends.

  • Dr Disrespect’s Apex Legends rage perfectly captures hit reg frustrations – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect’s Apex Legends rage perfectly captures hit reg frustrations Respawn Entertainment / DrDisrespect TwitchApex Legends after recurring issues with hit registration might have caused his untimely death in a match. Respawn Entertainment hit on an instant competitor for the stacked battle royale genre when they released Apex Legends on February 4. Though players instantly filled the servers, a surprising amount of bugs have been plaguing the game since launch. One of the issues that mar gameplay for thousands of players are the incredibly frustrating hit reg in Apex Legends. The persistent bug can make clean shots seemingly disappear from the server which can lead to unfortunate situations like the Doc found himself in. During a July 30 stream, the Doc could be seen fending off an enemy squad as the fight had been consumed by the shrinking zone. While he was able to dispatch one opponent with his Havoc, he didn’t have much luck with the ensuing battle. Switching over to his Wingman, the Doc’s aim was on point for the initial shot, hitting the target for 41 damage and not much else. “What happened to those bullets,” The Doc furiously said. “Where the fuck are those bullets going?! There’s fucking two bullets that they even register. Where were they?! Holy shit. Easy. ” With both guns having either an empty clip or near-empty magazine, the Doc was quickly eliminated by his foe after being left completely defenseless in the midst of the apparent hit reg issues. https://www.dexerto.com/apex-legends/apex-legends-dev-responds-concerns-over-broken-hit-boxes-392677The streamer was quite livid after the whole ordeal, slamming his desk before going into his manic tirade at what he saw as another example of shaky development progress for the game. Later on the Doc saw a playback of his battle with a more level head to give a proper analysis. While the evidence made him change his tune for a couple of shots, there were still some that seem like they were right on the money to him. The Two-time wasn’t convinced that all of the missed shots deserved to miss their mark, making it another entry in the backlog of questionable hit registration issues in Apex Legends.

Dragons might be swooping into Apex Legends according to leaks If you’re one of the few people out there who thought Apex Legends would be better with dragons, then you might be in luck. With the start of Apex Legends Season 1, we have a lot of content to dive into now. However, a lot of players are looking at what could be coming in the future. Leakers have been hard at work since the patch dropped finding little secrets in the files and some surprising things have been found. If you’re one of the people out there who thought Apex Legends could be improved upon by adding in Dragons, then you might have something to look forward to. If you don’t believe those screenshots, there are some additional files to back up the fact there might be some sort of flying creature coming into the game. Something about FlyerSwarm was added. These leaks don’t 100 percent confirm the existence of dragons, but it at least does open the door to the possibility of them. Numerous things in the past have shown up in the files before in previous games but that didn’t always result in a new addition to the game. Since none of this is confirmed, the best we can do for right now is wait and see what Respawn has in store for the future of Apex Legends. It seems like we already have a good idea with when Season 1 will be wrapping up as well as an indication on when Season 2 will be kicking off. In the meantime, we’ll have to sit and enjoy Season 1 of Apex Legends.

  • Dr Disrespect’s new Apex Legends map idea might be too insane to work – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect’s new Apex Legends map idea might be too insane to work L: EA R: Dr Disrespect – TwitchApex Legends Season 4 has gotten off to a strong start, and Dr Disrespect thinks he could make it even better. Being a former game designer himself, Doc has plenty of ideas to improve games, and he revealed what he’d do for Apex to spice some things up. When the battle royale first launched in 2019, it did so with Kings Canyon as the only map. Eventually, it was phased out for the newer World’s Edge location. However, the original map holds an important place in the hearts of many, and there is always a lot of excitement when it’s brought back. The Two-Time might have figured out a way to blend both worlds together by keeping the new map, but also finding a way to bring back the old one. “What if they bridged this map and the first map together,” he started. “And added 500 players.” His squad instantly agreed with him with his squad of Kraftyy and Viss both saying it’d be “nuts” if Respawn ever decided to go that route. (Discussion begins at 4:06) The chances of this ever happening are practically slim to none, considering the current-gen consoles, and most PCs for that matter, would have a lot of trouble handling a game of this magnitude. Your typical match would play more like a PowerPoint presentation, chugging along as 500 players wander across the map. Then again, even having 100 players in a match was likely looked like as impossible 10 years ago, so who knows, perhaps this is something that could happen. It would be interesting for fans to see how the developers could blend the maps together in the first place, given the sheer number of differences between the two. For the time being, it’s looking like Apex Legends will be sticking with World’s Edge, that is until Respawn decides to switch things up again and add a third map into the mix.

  • Dr Disrespects explains two things that would instantly improve Apex Legends – Dexerto

Dr Disrespects explains two things that would instantly improve Apex Legends Twitch streamer Dr Disrespect feels that Apex Legends must implement two things to improve the gameplay overall, mainly a change to the storm circles to improve the pace of their game. After bursting on to the battle royale scene in February 2019, Apex Legends enjoyed plenty of early success – beating Fortnite to be the first title to reach 50 million players worldwide. However, popularity has decreased in recent weeks following the emergence of many game breaking bugs and exploits such as using Lifeline’s healing drone while moving as well as a wave of hackers ruining the gaming experience for players. Dr Disrespect on how Apex Legends can improve Popular streamer, Dr Disrespect, has added his thoughts to the game’s current situation stating that pacing is currently the biggest issue facing Respawn Entertainment. “I think there is a couple of things Apex need to work on,” he said. “They really need to do something about this mid to late game intensity. “How many times do we play Apex and the game is over with? And that was the last team? “That signifies to me that the pacing leads to an ending without intensity.” Doc wants a dynamic storm circle in Apex Legends Doc feels that Apex can sometimes feel like a team deathmatch with teams frantically running around the map searching for kills – rather than playing smart in a battle royale. The 37-year-old thinks that adding a dynamic storm circle that changes in size depending on how many players are alive could be just what the game needs to solve its problems. He said: “I think that Apex Legends is the game that could really benefit from a dynamic circle.” It’s clear that Respawn needs to pump out some new content soon to get players interested in their game again with Fortnite’s World Cup qualifiers starting in less than a week. With $40m on offer in prize money, Apex will have to do something special to keep up with their biggest competitors in the coming months.

  • Dr Disrespect uninstalls Apex Legends in rage over hit reg issues – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect uninstalls Apex Legends in rage over hit reg issues Dr Disrespect / Apex LegendsThe self-proclaimed ‘two-time’ champion, Guy ‘Dr Disrespect’ Beahm, uninstalled Apex Legends in a rage, after complaining of hit registration issues in the game. Apex Legends received praise for their creative efforts in the Voidwalker event, but have also been criticized over a sound bug that has persisted, resulting in a petition to developers in a bid to fix the ongoing issue. Evidently, Dr Disrespect also has mixed feelings towards Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale, yet he is often seen dominating inside King’s Canyon. Dr Disrespect began his Apex Legends escapades on September 6 in his usual boisterous fashion – displaying his unrelenting wrath by finishing off his enemies and discussing Viss and Lyndon’s talent with his chat – it seemed like another day at the office for Doc. Nonetheless, the Doc proceeded to impulsively uninstall the title following in-game hit registration issues when fighting a Pathfinder (an issue that has plagued players since release). His frustrations were expressed as he quit saying: “That’s probably it for me on this game… Get me off this game”, he continued by adding “I’ve got to uninstall it just so I can feel good about myself.” After uninstalling, Beahm goes on to replay the engagement that led to his abrupt exit, where he implied: “It’s almost like it’s skipping numbers or something.” Shortly after, the two-time received a $1,000 donation in recognition of his purge, to which he reacted in typical Doc fashion. The incident left a bitter taste for Doc, as he took to his Twitter to vent by replying to a mention that highlighted yet another issue associated to Apex Legends. Will the persistent issues prove to be the final straw for Doc? Or will his tumultuous relationship with Apex Legends continue? Only time will tell.

  • Dr Disrespect uninstalls Apex Legends after infuriating audio issues – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect uninstalls Apex Legends after infuriating audio issues GFUEL / EADr Disrespect has had enough of Apex Legends already in Season 4, and uninstalled Respawn’s hit battle royale in a fit of rage over supposed audio issues. While plenty of fans have been enjoying Respawn’s efforts with their fourth season of Apex Legends, Dr Disrespect has mixed feelings. After previously lashing out at the game’s audio issues, the Doc decided to dabble in Apex Legends once again — given all of the hype surrounding Revenant’s entrance into the game. However, his return to the Apex Games was short-lived, after the Doc experienced another audio issue during an intense clutch situation while playing duos. “Oh yeah, did I hear you? No, I did not!” he yelled after being taken out by an opponent from his right. Admittedly, the enemy can quite clearly be heard sliding to his right on the stream, but the Doc must have missed the sound cue. “So what I do… Because I don’t hear you, you know what I do? You know what the f**k I do? I get this sh*t game off my computer.” “I’m so sick and tired of people rolling up on me and I can’t hear it,” the Doc ranted. “I can’t hear anything – like this dude, out of nowhere… So what we do, we get it off!” He proceeded to slam his desk in a fit of rage and lashed out at Origin, EA’s launcher, for being a “f**king piece of sh*t” before eventually uninstalling Apex and hopping over to PUBG. This isn’t the first time Dr Disrespect has taken the liberty of impulsively uninstalling Respawn’s hit game, after he did so in a cathartic effort to vent his frustrations with Apex Legends’ hit registration issues. Evidently, the Two-Time has had a turbulent relationship with the battle royale, but this could prove to be the final straw once and for all. He does have a bit of a reputation for the dramatic uninstalls though, so he’ll probably be back in time for next season.

  • Dr Disrespect turns Apex Legends into MMA with unbelievable victory – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect turns Apex Legends into MMA with unbelievable victory Dr Disrespect / TwitchDr Disrespect was able to show just how much his violence, speed, and momentum gives him the upper hand in a game of Apex Legends when his opponent requested it all end in a brutal bareknuckle fight. Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale game pits together 60 different opponents each time they drop into the Apex Legends arena, and whether it’s Kings Canyon or the new Season 3 World’s Edge Map, there can only ever be one team of champions crowned. It’s not often that the final competitors are given the chance to lay down their weapons and armor, battling it out with a good old-fashioned fight. However, during Doc’s stream on October 8, that’s exactly what transpired. The Pathfinder character has a mean metal punch in Apex Legends. It was a battle of metal on metal, Pathfinder vs. Pathfinder, and it’s certainly not something that either of the players would have had much experience in doing – which all made the contest even more interesting. Big stakes. Dr Disrespect and his two other teammates, TannerTheLegend and Team SoloMid’s Colton ‘Viss’ Visser, outnumbered the final player at the very end of the game, so the challenger started to take down their armor to spark the fight. Just moments later, they dived right towards the Two-Time with an ambitious zipline attempt to go over his head, with Doc landing a huge punch in mid air. As they came down to the floor, it was only a matter of time before it was all over. Ducking a few more attempts from the enemy to put Dr Disrespect to the sword, the self-proclaimed best video gamer in the world showed them who was boss as he landed three more consecutive shots to seal a decimating performance and incredible victory for his team. “Get this guy out of here! I wasn’t even touched! Get him out of here. Woo!” he said after knocking out his opponent. He wasn’t done talking there, though, as he took his charisma from the Apex Legends arena right into the post-fight interview with a few jokes. When asked about his reaction to the win and being crowned a champion in this way, he said: “I mean, instead of using one or two needles, I’ve used 10 to 15 needles straight from Mexico. “I’m talking about the most lethal steroids. I am full of illegal substances throughout my body and that’s what has gotten me to this level of success.” Not your average response to a victory, but let’s face it – this wasn’t a normal victory, either. They couldn’t even leave a mark on the champ’s face.

  • Dr Disrespect storms off stream in rage over Apex Legends audio issues – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect storms off stream in rage over Apex Legends audio issues Dr Disrespect, Twitch / RespawnDr Disrespect has returned to Apex Legends ahead of Season 4 and has already lashed out at the game’s audio, following a devastating death. The popular variety streamer has given a number of titles a try in recent times, anything from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to Escape from Tarkov. But, during a broadcast on February 3, he decided to give Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale game another go. It didn’t take long, however, for the Two-Time Blockbuster video game champion to remind himself of one of the issues that may have driven him away from Apex in the first place – the audio. The Doc was playing as Lifeline during the stream, but with just five squads left and his teammates needing a revive, he was completely outnumbered. With the odds already stacked against the Twitch star, he found himself right in the middle of a group of players – relying on the sounds coming through his headset to tell if any enemies were nearby. After taking shots at a Pathfinder, but not finishing them off, it was only a matter of time before somebody snuk up behind him to put him out of his misery. Seconds later, his squad was eliminated. He screamed: “Where’s the audio? Where the f**k’s the audio? Where is it?” before storming off camera. Right after that devastating death, Doc’s vintage loading screen appeared showing his head bounce from one side of the screen to the other, leaving fans eagerly anticipating his return. He soon came back, too, but just continued as normal – grabbing a bite to eat. He added: “Fighting two guys and either that was a third or that was one of the two guys, but either way, I should have heard the person behind me.” Dr Disrespect might not be the only player that’s hoping Apex Legends’ audio improves with the game’s next major update on February 4, which will see a brand new legend, Revenant, added to the game as part of Season 4. Whether or not he’ll stick by the game during this time and give it another chance remains to be seen, but it’s always entertaining when he jumps into the Apex Games.

  • Dr Disrespect slams “boring” Apex Legends time to kill in explosive rant – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect slams “boring” Apex Legends time to kill in explosive rant YouTube: DrDisRespect / Respawn EntertainmentThere’s plenty of hype surrounding the release of Apex Legends Season 10, but some players are less-than-thrilled with the game’s current state, including Dr Disrespect, who slammed the “boring” battle royale for its extended time to kill. Heading into its 10th season, Emergence, Apex Legends has cemented itself as one of the top three players in the BR space in terms of its player base, online presence, and engagement with content creators and their communities. Respawn’s BR continues to separate itself from the genre’s other major competitors, Warzone and Fortnite, with its focus on fluid movement, fast-paced gunplay, and unique Legend abilities — but not everyone finds the Apex recipe to be their favorite meal. Amongst the game’s critics is none of than the Two-Time Gaming World Champion, Dr Disrespect. After dipping his toes back into Respawn’s battle royale, he left feeling jaded over its extended time to kill, and loudly voiced his displeasure with the title’s “boring” gameplay. In the video, taken from a recent Apex Legends stream and later shared with his followers on Twitter, the content creator didn’t hold back from letting Respawn know his feelings about the pace of their BR’s engagements compared to other titles, like Warzone. “There’s nothing like cracking two [enemies] then having to sit there and f**king watch them heal,” he began, before completely flying off the handle — as he tends to do when voicing his frustration with any given game — into one of his signature monologues. “That’s why I don’t like this game, I hate this game!” he exclaimed, and went on to blast the title as boring. “Shooting shields?” he remarked sarcastically, “I don’t like it!” I’m not a crybaby… you are. pic.twitter.com/UT5sH7fm6w — Dr Disrespect (@DrDisrespect) August 1, 2021 “A full spray, and the f**king clip is never enough to knock a guy!” he complained, remarking on the fact that opponents will often take more than one clip of ammo to down, especially if they have a purple, gold, or red Evo shield equipped. The Doc also didn’t hold back from criticizing the slow TTK’s negative affect on pro play: “No one wants to watch this game competitively,” he shouted, then went on, “you can’t create that ‘one shot’ moment,” referring to the lack of insta-kills you can pull off in other games like Warzone. “No one wants to watch it. At the end [of the game] everyone’s camping out, putting bubble shields on, camping doors,” the streamer remarked, throwing a jab at the often chaotic, but campy endgame circles that occur during Apex Legends, particular in professional play. While the Doc certainly overplayed his complaints about the game’s TTK (no title is ever truly safe from the wrath of the Two-Time), the YouTube streamer certainly seems to find Warzone’s shorter engagement times preferable to the drawn-out fights that occur in Apex.

  • Dr Disrespect slams Apex Legends store as the “worst” he’s ever seen – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect slams Apex Legends store as the “worst” he’s ever seen Dr Disrespect / TwitchThe controversy surrounding Apex Legends‘ Iron Crown event update, arising from the extortionate cost of packs and the randomization of skins, has even the top streamers like Dr Disrespect weighing in. The Iron Crown event was meant to be a big positive for Apex Legends, bringing ‘the most fan-requested feature’ since launch, a solo mode. Fans also got excited for the all-new skins, which were a marked improvement upon past Legend skins in the store, but all this excitement quickly turned sour soon after the update went live on August 13. The focus of their ire was the Apex Pack system, which charges players $7 for a single pack, with no guarantees about what skin will be granted from the box. Some quick calculations estimated around $150 for players to acquire every item in the event. Top streamer Dr Disrespect was participating in the Twitch Rivals event for Apex on August 14, but when asked by a viewer if he would be acquiring any of the new skins, he made his feelings clear. “Look at this store. It makes me want to throw up,” the Doc explained, “This has got to be one of the worst looking stores I’ve ever seen in any video game in the history of microtransactions. This is god awful.” The Doc seemed generally dumbfounded not only by the cost of the packs – which he later discovered he was a long way off even being able to purchase one – but also the complexity of the store. With now four different types of ‘currency’ (crafting metals, legend tokens, Apex coins, and crowns), and the different progression of battle pass level and event level, the microtransaction system is perhaps not as streamlined as it could be. The fans being angry is one thing, but when influencers are highlighting the flaws too, EA and Respawn might take notice – as shroud was among the first to speak out on the system. Players may not be able to criticize Apex Legends for a lack of content now though, which is one positive, with the cosmetic loot pool continuing to expand, plus more frequent map changes. But, clearly, the aggressive microtransactions are leaving a bad taste in the mouth of many players, who are now being given a strong reminder that the game is published by EA, who have received more than their share fair of criticism over in-game revenue systems in recent years.

  • Dr Disrespect slams “boring” Apex Legends – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect slams “boring” Apex Legends Twitch star Dr Disrespect explained why he “hates” Apex Legends and how it bores him to death – despite going in search of becoming an Apex Champion. Despite releasing to much acclaim back in February, Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends title still has its detractors. Dr Disrespect firmly falls under this category after constantly raging at how the game ‘breaks’ and its problems with hit registration. The Doc is never one to shy away from giving his unfiltered opinion on something – and that’s one reason why thousands of fans tune in on a daily basis. He’s already PUBG and Fortnite during recent streams, but couldn’t resist the urge to let out all his pent up anger at Apex Legends once again. The Doc has never been one to shy away from voicing his opinions. During his August 8 stream, the Twitch star had been attempting to complete his Triple Threat Challenge with Jack ‘Courage’ Dunlop when they ran into some trouble with Apex. The lack of success prompted the Doc to blow his top. “I hate this game, I don’t like this game,” the streamer stated. “I hate this game. This game gets me more upset than any game I’ve ever played. I cannot stand this game.” He wasn’t finished there though, taking his rant up to the next level by explaining why he feels the way he does. The Two-Time added: “I hate shooting shields, it’s boring me to death,” before raising his tone. “boring me to death! This game sucks man – it’s dead!” he called out, becoming visibly angrier. “I don’t want to shoot shields my whole life.” His frustrations grew even further as Courage was swarmed upon by opposing players and eliminated despite being in a decent position to potentially win. “I’m gonna break my desk, I’m going to break everything around me,” he threatened, prompting laughs from his fellow streamer before pleading with him to not do so. Of course, the Two-Time opted to keep his desk intact and was, instead, able to make some headway with Apex Legends and secure a victory – even though it did take another hour of playing. However, that might be the last time – for now, at least – that fans are able to see the Doc running around Kings Canyon, so they might just have to savor the moment.

  • Dr Disrespect and shroud debate on how Apex Legends loot RNG can be improved – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect and shroud debate on how Apex Legends loot RNG can be improved Despite its explosive success, Apex Legends is far from a perfect game, and popular Twitch streamers Guy ‘Dr Disrespect’ Beahm and Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek have some ideas on how it can be improved. On March 11, the pair engaged in a public discussion about Apex Legends on Twitter, and the topic they focused on was RNG. RNG, of course, refers to random number generation, a system commonly used in battle royale games to randomize in-game aspects such as loot drops, quality of loot, outcome of certain events, and more. The Doc believes that RNG should be eliminated from the game, which would be done by standardizing the loot. This means, essentially, that the same items of the same rarities would appear in the same places on the map every game. According to the Doc, such a change would legitimize the pro scene, establish points-of-interest for loot, increase the risk/reward balance for specific high-tier items, and create a stronger narrative for casting and/or spectating. I think Respawn should really consider trying out set loot with @PlayApex. Not only would it legitimize the pro scene by eliminating RNG, it would also create POI for loot, higher risk/reward for specific high tier items, and a stronger narrative for casting/spectating. — Dr Disrespect (@drdisrespect) March 12, 2019 The Doc further expanded upon his idea by explaining how it would work in the early-game stages, which would become even more tactical and strategic since everyone would know where the higher-tier loot is located. “Maybe everyone drops in with a default, low-end loadout, or nothing at all,” he tweeted. “But with map experience, you would drop in an area with knowledge of what’s there already.” Maybe everyone drops in with a default low end loadout or nothing at all but with map experience, you would drop in an area with knowledge of whats there already. — Dr Disrespect (@drdisrespect) March 12, 2019 Shroud, on the other hand, wasn’t completely on board with Doc’s idea, contending that the loot aspect of the game could be balanced without the need to eliminate RNG. “I think just get rid of Hot Zones in general and make every location have the same exact number of items spread out and drop percentage,” he responded. “Keep the BR RNG, eliminate everyone dropping in the same spot each game.” I think just getting rid of hotzones in general and make every location have the same exact number of items spread out and drop percentage. Keep the BR RNG, eliminate everyone dropping in the same spot each game. — Michael Grzesiek (@shroud) March 12, 2019 The Hot Zones that shroud refers to is a unique feature in Apex Legends which marks a random location at the start of each match as the designated high-tier loot area, virtually guaranteeing it to be a very risky place to land. While the concept of Hot Zones keeps all of the map’s point-of-interest relevant in the grand scheme of things, it does create an imbalance each game as a lot of teams understandably choose to land at the same marked location. While each streamer’s suggestion does have its pros and cons, it seems very unlikely that Respawn Entertainment, at least for now, will opt to make such a fundamental and radical changes as the one that Doc proposed. However, considering that the game is barely a month old, it would be sensible to expect the developers to make large-scale changes down the line.

  • Dr Disrespect gives surprising verdict on Apex Legends battle pass – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect gives surprising verdict on Apex Legends battle pass Dr Disrespect / Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment might be quenching the thirst of Apex Legends fans by finally giving them the Season 1 Battle Pass they’ve been waiting for, but Dr Disrespect doesn’t think it’s going to do much for the ‘evaporating’ game. The popular Twitch streamer, who has over 3.3 million followers on the platform, has previously discussed how he is burnt out with Apex Legends due to a lack of new content. Now, he believes that despite the incoming Season 1 Battle Pass – which is set to bring a brand new legend, Octane, to the game and a number of balance changes – the game isn’t going to improve as a result. “Apex is quickly evaporating,” he said during a stream on March 18. “Here’s what the season pass is going to do… Is it going to take it to the next level? No. Not in my opinion.” Read More: Apex Legends Season 1: Wild Frontier Update – Early patch notes, Battle Pass, new Legend and more – The Season 1 Battle Pass is expected to land on March 19, after leaks previously touted that March 12 was the date for players to mark on their calendars. However, judging by these comments, Dr Disrespect doesn’t seem as excited as some fans have been in the buildup to its launch. “With excitement, with interest, it’s kind of already tapering off – actually, pretty quickly. I think the season pass is just going to bump it up just a little bit in terms of [allowing them to] sustaining it. That’s why content is so important.” The Doc, as many of his fans will know, always tends to put an emphasis on new content when giving his verdict on a game. In the case of Apex Legends, he clearly thinks there might be a problem later down the road.

  • Dr Disrespect roasts viewer after telling him to open Apex Legends packs on stream – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect roasts viewer after telling him to open Apex Legends packs on stream Dr Disrespect / RespawnDr Disrespect has never been one to hold back his strong opinions and when an Apex Legends player donated to his stream to ask for a pack opening, let’s just say it didn’t end well. The YouTube streamer is one of the biggest in the streaming business, owning whatever game he plays from the time he goes live streaming until the time he calls it a day. Following a trend in the streaming world right now, whether it’s on Twitch, YouTube, or other platforms, Doc has traded in Warzone for some Apex Legends. Similar decisions have been taken from other major streamers, including NICKMERCS, CouRage, TimTheTatman, and the list goes on. Dr Disrespect wrecks donator after Apex Legends request After going live on August 6, it didn’t take long for one of the viewers to ask him to open some Apex Legends packs – so he explained, in the only way he knows how, why that’s not really his thing. For those who don’t know, Apex Packs are similar to Ultimate Team packs in FIFA. You pay to open them and inside can be everything from Crafting Metals to a Legendary Skin. “Would you mind opening like 80 Apex Packs, Doc?” one viewer said, with their $4.99 donation. He quickly snapped back: “Is that content – sitting here opening packs? Me reacting to three little boxes and looking for a particular object?” He then pitched an alternative vision for his stream, and not many would argue they would rather see him open packs. That’s for sure. Timestamp in the video below at 51:54.6 – or full clip here. Dr Disrespect added: “Or we go into a house, look a guy in his face, say you’ve got no chance. Demolish him. Knock him down. Reload the weapon. Swap shield, go outdoors, vertical climb to the top of the building. Look down at the second partner in the team, thrash his face once again, boom – knock his ass down. “Now it’s a one versus one situation to win the game. Now, you tell me again… Do you want me to open Apex Packs? WRONG!” Maybe next time the viewer will just go with the flow and let the Two-Time decide what he’s going to do. Clearly, even a donation wasn’t going to change his mind.

  • Dr Disrespect rips into “boring” Apex Legends in first games back: “I’m reading emails instead!” – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect rips into “boring” Apex Legends in first games back: “I’m reading emails instead!” YouTube: Dr Disrespect / Respawn EntertainmentMonths after uninstalling the game and vowing never to return, Dr Disrespect finally dropped back into Apex Legends in his latest YouTube stream. Mere hours into his first session back though, and Doc found himself “reading emails” instead to try and ‘stay awake.’ It’s no secret Dr Disrespect hasn’t had a great time with Apex Legends since its release. He’s uninstalled the game on multiple occasions and even promised never to jump back in again. After more than a year off from the popular battle royale, however, the two-time shifted gears slightly early in 2021, actually calling Respawn’s flagship title a “good game,” and admitting he even “liked it.” This change was short-lived though; roughly three hours into his first session back on June 30, and Doc was ready to call it quits again. “Do you see how soft and skinny this f***ing game is?” Doc yelled in a fit of rage after bombing out of a lobby in 12th place. “It’s just shooting shields. There’s a reason why I don’t play it. It’s boring. I don’t know what else to say.” He collected himself and tried dropping into a ranked game next, per viewer advice. However, not even the competitive side of Apex could keep him engaged. “I’m falling asleep playing the game,” he said after quitting his final lobby of the day. Doc’s main criticism this time around was the state of shields and drawn-out gunfights. For his money, “everything feels tedious.” “I am struggling to stay interested,” he added. “I’m reading emails on my third monitor over here while I’m playing the game. I have no interest, I’m bored. I want to uninstall it right now, and I don’t want to play the game ever again.” Doc’s latest fit of Apex-induced rage kicks off at 5:15:45 below. While he gave it a few hours to sink its hooks, Apex couldn’t quite match the Doc’s thirst for high-octane gameplay. “I try to commit, we did a couple of hours today… We tried. That’s all I can do.” Winding down, Doc closed out of the game once and for all. Given his experience this time, it could be the last time he ever drops into Apex Legends.

Dr Disrespect reveals why Apex Legends is “the most difficult FPS” YouTube: Dr DisrespectDr Disrespect has been taking on the Apex Legends Ranked ladder, and after a February 24 escapade with ZLaner, the Two-Time has labeled the game “the most difficult FPS” on the market. Dr Disrespect is a true FPS aficionado. Not only has he reached impressive heights in a number of different franchises as a player, but he formerly worked with Sledgehammer Games as a map designer in the Advanced Warfare era of the Call of Duty franchise, and is currently developing his own game Deadrop. That level of experience is as good as gold when it comes to weighing in on the state of gaming, and after one of many Apex Legends streams since the game’s release, Doc has seen enough to call the battle royale title the most difficult in all of gaming. Dr Disrespect explains what makes Apex Legends so difficult Dr Disrespect was four hours into a Ranked session when he decided to call it quits for the day. He was left in an unwinnable 1v3 three situation, and while he tried his best to grab his teammates’ banners and get out of dodge, the enemy squad tracked him down and finished off their hunt. The mega-streamer was visibly disappointed in his own performance even before the opposition converged on him, and he let his chat hear his frustration. “I’m so clumsy in this game…y’all see how clumsy I am?” After saying goodbye to ZLaner and Niko1F, Doc told chat that he needed a break from Apex and was after something fresh. A chatter sympathized with him, calling the BR the most difficult FPS, and Doc agreed wholeheartedly. “Not even the aim, it’s movement,” he said. “Fluidity of movement, and hip-firing, and strafe tapping, and slipping and sliding…the separation of players in just that alone.” That’s not a new observation for many in the FPS space. Respawn Entertainment has always prided itself on the strength of Apex Legends’ movement capabilities, and Doc might have finally met a game that pushes him to the limits of his skill.

  • Dr Disrespect reveals main reason he stopped streaming Apex Legends – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect reveals main reason he stopped streaming Apex Legends YouTube: Dr Disrespect / RespawnDr Disrespect revealed the main reason why he stopped streaming Apex Legends despite loving the game, claiming it’s because he doesn’t have anyone to play with regularly on YouTube. Doc has had a love-hate relationship with Apex Legends. In August 2021, he slammed it for being “boring” and said it would never be a top-tier esports title. He also claimed that it pales in comparison to Warzone. However, he backflipped on that in August 2021 and admitted he loved it, describing it as a “breath of fresh air.” But despite that, he stopped streaming it regularly. Now,the YouTube star has explained why. It’s not because he stopped loving the game. Instead, it’s because he doesn’t really have anyone to play with – at least in his usual squad. “Nobody plays Apex Legends on YouTube,” said the two-time after deliberating what game to play next. “Literally, nobody plays Apex.” He reiterated his love for the game. “I love Apex. I would love to grind Apex ranked. I actually really enjoyed the Apex grind on the new map. I did.” However, fond memories aren’t enough to convince him to play again on stream. Then, he name-dropped two friends that aren’t keen to play, Timothy ‘TimTheTatman’ Betar and Zack ‘ZLaner’ Lane. “It’s unfortunate that Timmy doesn’t ever want to play it. And then ZLaner… I don’t know if [he’d want to play it].” It might be a while until we see the two-time unleash some violence, speed, and momentum into Apex Legends again. In the meantime, he’s mopping the floor with the competition in Halo Infinite and has been loving every minute of it.

  • Dr Disrespect rages at Apex Legends after run-in with “sheep” gamers – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect rages at Apex Legends after run-in with “sheep” gamers Respawn Entertainment / Twitch: DrDisrespectTwitch streamer Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment after a run-in with the game’s Triple Take sniper rifle. The Doc has been grinding Apex Legends consistently since the release of the popular battle royale title’s third season, and even though he admits he is addicted to the game, that hasn’t stopped him from fuming about the state of it when he feels he’s hard done by. On October 7, Dr Disrespect got taken down by an opponent wielding the Triple Take sniper rifle, which is one of the easier guns in its class to use, prompting another classic rage from The Doc, who thinks Respawn are catering too heavily to unskilled players. Eliminated from the game, Dr Disrespect took aim at the weapon, labeling it as “training wheels for sniping,” as he raged about the current state of the game. “The Triple Take is a couple wheels on the side, playing baby music through a walkie-talkie,” The Doc told his audience. “It’s pathetic! All these games are just anything to let the little deer feed as well, right? There are sheep, and then there are wolves — and somehow, someway, development in these games just love to cater to these little sheep!” “These poor little sheep trapped in a prairie on a farm, they’re kind of hungry too! ‘Maybe we should feed them as well, just throw them something in there, he’s so cute!’ Makes me sick!” The Doc was so enraged, that he decided not to play another second of the game for the remainder of the stream, reading donations and interacting with fans before ending his broadcast. Dr Disrespect is one of the most popular streamers on Twitch, boasting almost four million followers, and has made a name for himself by dominating opponents in battle royale titles, while trash talking them in a style which only he can pull off. While he may be frustrated with Respawn Entertainment and Apex Legends right now, don’t expect to see him shelve the game for good, as it’s likely he’ll return to the arena for some more action on World’s End on October 8.

  • Dr Disrespect rages after encountering ‘unkillable’ Apex Legends hacker – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect rages after encountering ‘unkillable’ Apex Legends hacker Respawn / EA Games / Dr Disrespect / TwitchTwitch star Dr Disrespect is well known for his public outbursts while streaming and his May 22 broadcast was no different – this time, involving an ‘unkillable’ Wraith player in Apex Legends. Apex Legends has been a massive hit with battle royale fans ever since its sudden release back in February, so it comes as no surprise that some of the most popular streamers are playing and enjoying it. Like any other game, Apex is subject to hacks and exploits that cause unfair gameplay advantages to cheating players, and Dr Disrespect witnessed this firsthand during his May 22 stream. The Wraith player was using an invincibility cheat. While playing in a squad with TSM’s Jesse ‘Kraftyy’ Kraft and Colton ‘Viss’ Visser, the Two-Time ran into a Wraith player who was soaking up damage like a sponge but wouldn’t die – an action that is very common with someone who is using hacks. The Wraith plays a game of cat and mouse with Dr Disrespect, kicking down the door to the building he was in and then running off, immune to every bullet being shot her way. After giving chase, he tries to kill her once again but is unsuccessful and is eventually wiped out, eliminating his entire squad from the match. “What the fuck is this guy?! It’s the same goddamn fucking Wraith, man!” shouts an angry Doc, “Jesus Christ! I’m shooting shields after shields!” “That Wraith is literally the unkillable, dude,” RealKraftyy states as they head back to the lobby to load back into a new match. It’s not the first time Dr Disrespect has been angry at the game Dr Disrespect has aired his frustrations with Apex Legends before, after returning from a break he took to focus on PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. While battling in a squad, Doc and his team suddenly froze in midair and dropped down into the map below – a result of some serious server lag. They laughed it off at first but when it happened again and they got disconnected, the popular streamer said, “Look at this. Apex Legends huh? Oh man, what did I come back to?” The servers have since been fixed and seem to be in stable condition so now all Respawn needs to do is tackle the hackers who make the game less enjoyable for everybody else.

  • Dr Disrespect argues PUBG is better than Apex Legends in one major way – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect argues PUBG is better than Apex Legends in one major way Twitch streamer Dr Disrespect argues PUBG and other battle royale games are more exciting for a viewer than Apex Legends. Apex Legends is the hot commodity on both Twitch and the battle royale market. Since it’s release, it has sat at or near the top of the Twitch directory at just about every moment. Several big name streamers have made their impact with the game, including Twitch star Dr Disrespect, who has since made Apex Legends his main game to play. Dr Disrespect is one of Twitch’s most outspoken streamers as he always seems to share his true thoughts on everything and anything. In a recent clip, he shared his thoughts on the state of Apex Legends from the perspective of a viewer, and he had some interesting comparisons to make. “I think watching Apex gameplay isn’t exciting,” said Dr Disrespect on his stream. “I think watching Battlegrounds is way more exciting in my opinion.” He goes on to say both Fortnite and H1Z1 are both more exciting games to watch as well. He then makes an interesting comparison to Overwatch. “It’s kind of like Overwatch,” begins The Doc. “You know Overwatch, it’s super fun to play, it’s highly addictive but it’s just absolutely terrible to watch.” The Doc still says he enjoys playing Apex Legends but he thinks from the standpoint of the viewer there are more exciting games to watch. He might be onto something with that assessment as viewership for Apex Legends has started to lag behind Fortnite recently, which could be chalked up to Fortnite getting a new season while Apex Legends is still waiting on the first Battle Pass to release. Once the first season of Apex Legends officially begins, we’ll be able to get a better idea of how Apex Legends will stack up to Fortnite on Twitch in the long run.

  • Dr Disrespect pinpoints “terrible” Apex Legends issue Respawn need to fix – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect pinpoints “terrible” Apex Legends issue Respawn need to fix YT: Dr DisrespectMoustached YouTube streamer Dr Disrespect has pinpointed Apex Legends’ one problem that needs rapid attention, calling on Respawn developers to fix it as soon as possible. The Doc has long been uniquely positioned to offer opinions on video game development, with his days prior to full-time streaming being filled as a level designer at Sledgehammer Games. We’re also looking ahead to his own game release, known as Project Moon. He often steps back into development mode when assessing games, something he did so again during a July 8 YouTube stream to outline his major issue with Apex Legends. Dr Disrespect calls on Respawn to rework Apex Legends’ audio Praising Warzone for their recent improvements to the battle royale’s audio, he lamented the lack of comparable changes in Apex Legends and claimed it is the foremost issue that Respawn need to get a handle on. “Then it [Warzone’s improvements] made me realize how terrible Apex’s audio is,” he said. “I always thought Apex’s audio was great, it really isn’t. You miss so much audio it’s insane… I think Respawn’s really gotta sit down with the design team and really define every single motion and movement from all the different characters, whether they’re in the air, they’re flying towards you, they’re flying away, they’re landing, you hear the ability going off.” Timestamp: 17:05 He continued: “I think everything should have a sense of audio design because man, there’s a lot of times [when it lets you down]… There’s so many times where I’m like ‘where is the audio?’… I didn’t have one issue playing Warzone, with audio. Apex, super noticeable man. I had two guys flying above me, five feet right behind me, nothing. That’s the type of sh*t that really p*sses me off.” In short, the Doc wants to see Apex’s audio reworked so every design possibility has its own sound cue and players can respond accordingly. It’s not the first time Apex players have singled out audio as a major problem but, with the Doc pinpointing it as his major problem with the BR, we can hope Respawn take note to the man behind the moustache.

  • Dr Disrespect pinpoints major Apex Legends issue Respawn have got “so wrong” – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect pinpoints major Apex Legends issue Respawn have got “so wrong” YT: Dr DisrespectMustached YouTube entertainer Dr Disrespect has pinpointed one major issue with Apex Legends in Season 13, claiming Respawn have got the balance of shields “so wrong”. Shields, for all the changes Apex Legends has undergone since its release a few years back, have stayed relatively consistent in how they work, albeit changing to Evo Shields. A protective buffer that enemies have to shatter before being able to deal damage to players, they are still restorable through Shield Cells (25), Shield Batteries (100), and Phoenix Kits (100 shield and HP). However, mustached streamer Dr Disrespect shared his major problem with shields, claiming they’re unbalanced and Respawn have simply got them “wrong.” Dr Disrespect claims Apex Legends shields are “so wrong” In a July 28 YouTube video, the Doc threw together a montage of his struggles with the battle royale’s shield system. “I’m just shooting f**king shields,” he raged, time and time again being eliminated after lighting up enemies but failing to get the knocks. “I’m literally shooting shields for nothing! We’ll literally break their shield to the very [last] sliver, and it’s just not enough. It’s just not enough.” Shields definitely have a place in Apex, but the Doc clearly feels there’s a pressing need for Respawn to balance them more adequately moving forwards. How they go about doing that is not clear, with some extra buffer on top of health points definitely needed to ensure TTK remains balanced and fired-upon players have a chance to react and survive. It’s not the Doc’s only issue with Apex, with the streamer poking fun at the game’s glitches, including one where Valkyrie performs a finisher with an arrow protruding from her head. In the past, he has also called for an overhaul to the BR’s audio system, so there’s plenty for Respawn to be working on in the Doc’s eyes. We expect players to be similarly critical of Deadrop, the upcoming VES title from the Doc’s own Midnight Society development studio. If it has shields, we can expect them to be easier to break.

  • Dr Disrespect pinpoints Apex Legends’ big advantage over Warzone 2 – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect pinpoints Apex Legends’ big advantage over Warzone 2 Dr Disrespect/Respawn/ActivisionDr Disrespect has explained why he prefers Apex Legends to Warzone 2, crediting Respawn with making an “intelligent” battle royale game. With the battle royale genre getting bigger each year, comparisons between different games can naturally be drawn. In the case of Dr Disrespect, he’s played them all, loved some things about some, and absolutely hated parts of others. The streaming star has been on a Warzone 2 kick recently, making that his game of choice whenever he goes live. Though, he has grown quite annoyed at it, calling the CoD battle royale a haven for unskilled players that has plenty of issues that the devs need to address. While he’s not dove back into Apex Legends just yet, he has been teasing that idea. The Two-Time believes it’s the “hardest” shooter he’s played and that it has a leg up on Warzone 2 as it is “intelligent” in its design. Dr Disrespect explains why he prefers Apex Legends over Warzone 2 The Doc was back making comparisons about the two games during a recent stream, as his frustrations with Warzone 2 once again bubbled to the surface. “As a gamer, that’s what I want to feel – improvement with a noticeable skill gap. I think that is the ultimate recipe,” the Two-Time said. “How do you improve in Warzone? You slow down? Do you slow down or do you jump into 1v4s and try to wipe them out every single time? “I mean, Apex, there’s a lot of mechanics happening that I can tell each one individually is improving. There’s so many different elements in that game that require a sense of brains to make a decision and execute that particular mechanic. That’s why I like Apex, you can feel intelligent design behind the game.” Timestamp of 23:17 As noted, The Doc has teased that he’s got some unfinished business with Apex and could dive back into it with the goal of hitting Predator rank. With Season 15 almost over, he might be better suited to wait until the highly-anticipated arrival of Season 16 so he can be on a level playing field.

  • Dr Disrespect outlines major Ranked change Apex Legends desperately needs – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect outlines major Ranked change Apex Legends desperately needs Respawn Entertainment / YT: DrDisrespectYouTube streamer and moustache connoisseur Dr Disrespect has outlined a major change he wants to see in Apex Legends’ Ranked, with the battle royale hurtling towards its thirteenth season of post-launch content. One of fans’ favorite aspects about Dr Disrespect is the moustached maverick’s penchant for a forthright opinion; never afraid to unload on a game based on where he feels it needs to improve. Given his background in Call of Duty map design, it’s fair to say that the Doc is more qualified than most when it comes to offering constructive criticism on video games. Now, with Apex Legends approaching its thirteenth season, he has outlined a significant change to Ranked play that he wants to see introduced in the near future. Speaking in his April 20 live stream, he called for Respawn to add Ranked duos as an option for players. Currently, Ranked Leagues and Ranked Arenas only allow players to compete in trios (teams of three). “It feels like duos would be pretty sick in this game, right?” he said. “Wouldn’t it [be phenomenal]? Wouldn’t it?” The Doc and his teammate ZLaner agreed that, given Apex Legends’ lobby size of 60 players compared to Warzone’s 150, it would be far easier for matchmaking to fill lobbies. Timestamp: 1:32:00 It has been a topic floated by the community in the past, but Respawn have regularly stated that the game is geared towards teams of three, with Legend abilities designed to complement one another. Because of the ruling from the devs, duos are forced to drop into Ranked modes with a third player. It joins concerted efforts from the player base to get Solos mode added to the battle royale but, as of this article’s publication, the devs are holding firm that Apex is a team game at its core and will remain as such.

  • Dr Disrespect “guarantees” he’ll never play Apex Legends again – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect “guarantees” he’ll never play Apex Legends again Dr Disrespect, TwitchDr Disrespect’s time streaming Apex Legends on Twitch appears to be coming to an end, after the two-time revealed he no longer has any interest in the battle royale during a recent broadcast. The popular variety streamer is no stranger to first-person shooter games and certainly not battle royales, as he was one of the biggest personalities to promote Apex when it first came out in February 2019. Anybody who watches the Two-Time back-to-back Blockbuster video game champion knows to expect the usual speed, violence and momentum every time he goes live on his channel, but on March 9 thing were a little different. While the streamer’s voice was breaking all over the place and many players expected it to be nothing more than just a common flu, he revealed at one point that it was actually the much talked about coronavirus – which he claims to have “crushed” over the weekend. Putting that to one side, he might well be going on the hunt for a new game to play in the near future, after coming to the conclusion that Apex Legends is no longer meeting his expectations. “I might not ever play this game again,” he said. “I’m sorry ladies and gentlemen, I have absolutely f**king zero interest in this game – none, never have. A little bit early on, but that was fun, I was learning, it was fresh. “Now that I know what every single fight is like and you can’t hit a big shot, the one shot, I just never f**king gravitated towards this game,” he added, before his voice completely crocked up. “I never have. I’m not gonna sit here and complain to you guys about it.” In the past, as regular viewers will know, the Doc has gone as far as uninstalling games like Fortnite, PUBG, and even Apex Legends, only to play them again next time he goes live. This time, though, there seems to be a difference as he “guaranteed” he wouldn’t be diving into the Apex Games, despite continuing to play it for the rest of his four-hour stream. He did add a “probably” to the promise too, so let’s see how this one plays out. What game could Dr Disrespect play next? Dr Disrespect has made a name for himself in first-person shooters and there’s no bigger talking point in the FPS market right now than Valorant. Riot Games have released a lot of details on their next major project so far, confirming it will be released in “Summer 2020,” and Doc even had shroud on his channel later on to talk a little bit about the game. There’s a good chance that he will give it a go when it officially launches, but until then, fans should expect to see him switch around several titles.

  • Dr Disrespect loses his mind over ‘disastrous’ Apex Legends gun effects – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect loses his mind over ‘disastrous’ Apex Legends gun effects Dr Disrespect – Twitch / Respawn EntertainmentStar Twitch streamer Dr Disrespect has had enough of the weapon effects in Apex Legends, and he expressed his feelings in one of his iconic rage-filled rants. Dr Disrespect raging over a battle royale game is nothing new, but the sight of seeing him lose his mind on his stream never gets old. His latest spell of anger came during a session of Apex Legends, when he found himself come out on the wrong end of an intense gunfight. During the gunfight, the Doc was being peppered with shots from the enemy team, which caused a lot of animation and graphics to appear on his screen. Turns out, those effects were enough to take care of the last bit of patience he had in him at that point, and losing the gunfight was just icing on the cake. After he got eliminated, the Doc immediately left the game with haste, turning his camera to fullscreen, which his viewers knew could only mean one thing. “When I’m receiving damage, why does my screen look like my actual real monitor is going to blow up,” he yelled. “I mean sh*t, we don’t need all of the VFX, I don’t need my screen to shake, I don’t need the audio. It’s a f*cking disaster.” He then went on to give the developers at Respawn Entertainment some advice on how to adjust the game to make it look and feel better. “The damage feedback system in this game, it’s a disaster. It’s terrible. Tone it down by like 95% please! Holy sh*t!” Of course, the Doc isn’t the only player in Apex Legends who has complained about on-screen graphics and animations taking place during gunfights. In fact, many have complained about this particular aspect of the the game for a while now, and it still continues to be an issue, even now during Season 2. Ex-Overwatch pro Brandon ‘Seagull’ Larned had a similar reaction when recently coming across a heavy amount of muzzle flash while engaging in combat. It’s safe to say that most players simply don’t like having too much going on their screens when shooting their weapon, so it’s something that Respawn might want to prioritize for the near future.

  • Dr Disrespect loses it with rage playing Apex Legends ranked: “Terrible game!” – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect loses it with rage playing Apex Legends ranked: “Terrible game!” Respawn EntertainmentIt’s no secret that Dr Disrespect has been known to rage when playing games and during a match of Apex Legends the Doc blew a gasket and declared that the game “sucks.” Apex Legends Season 14 has brought its usual thrills and spills with some interesting map rotations and the game’s pick rate meta being thrown for a loop thanks to the introduction of Vantage. Now, Dr Disrespect currently has a lot on his plate what with the ongoing development of his new game, DEADROP, as well as insane opportunities with the San Francisco 49ers. This doesn’t deter him from his regular streams though, and in a recent one, Doc made his feelings about Apex Legends known. Apex Legends ranked play gets the better of Dr Disrespect The two-time, back-to-back 1993-94 Blockbuster video game champion was in a heated gunfight during a game of Apex Legends Ranked. He was then third-partied by another player from behind, put into a downed state, and was killed almost instantly without ever having a chance to react. What was even quicker was Dr Disrepsect’s reaction to the death as he immediately ragequitted the game, and maintained his composure for all of two seconds, before unleashing several acts of aggression against his gaming equipment. The streamer then made his feelings on Apex Legends perfectly clear: “F**king game, f**king game sucks. F**king sucks. It’s terrible!” Anyone who’s read a Dr Disrespect story before or had the pleasure of watching one his streams will know that he’s susceptible to the occasional meltdown. In the last few weeks alone he’s insulted Call of Duty: Warzone multiple times, so much so that he actually threatened to quit Warzone for good until Warzone 2 came out. Naturally, he was on Warzone the very next day as he’s always to please his community, and we await Doc’s next incredible frustration with an online multiplayer game.

  • Dr Disrespect hits out at Respawn over shotguns in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect hits out at Respawn over shotguns in Apex Legends Dr Disrespect / Respawn entertainmentPopular Twitch streamer Dr Disrespect has heavily criticized the state of shotguns in Apex Legends after registering ridiculously low damage with the Peacekeeper during a recent match. The much anticipated Season Three of Apex Legends saw many changes introduced to the popular battle royale, including some weapon changes that Respawn felt were needed to balance the game. However, most of the shotguns were left untouched following the Season 3: Meltdown update with only a slight buff to the Mozambique, despite some earlier concerns from players on the consistency of weapons in the class. The same sentiment was echoed by Twitch star Dr Disrespect after he was left stunned following a ridiculous death during one of his games with fellow streamers TSM Viss and TannerSlays. The Doc was livestreaming some gameplay on the newly introduced World’s Edge map and began hunting down one of his opponents with the TSM duo close by in backing him up. When The Two-Time eventually tracked down the enemy player, he fired multiple shots off with Peacekeeper to no success, only dealing 12 damage total to his opponent despite being at pretty close – which caused him to flip out on stream. “It’s twelve and it’s a headshot from about seven feet away,” the Doc repeated with his screams, shocked by the lack of damage done by the Peacekeeper. “I don’t f*cking get this game! I don’t. Season 3, are you kidding me?” The streamer did not let the death get him down for too long, however, later returning to his setup to cast the TSM duo to victory in front of his stream in classic Dr Disrespect fashion. Many Apex Legends players feel similarly to the Doc about some of the shotgun’s power in-game, although it is unclear if Respawn has any intention to balance the weapons more in the future. This is not the first time the Two-time lost it at the popular battle royale game’s newest season, as he previously criticized some of the visual effects although he also revealed he was too addicted to Apex Legends to quit.

  • Dr Disrespect hilariously roasts summit1g for playing Apex Legends – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect hilariously roasts summit1g for playing Apex Legends Dr Disrespect / summit1gApex Legends since its release on February 4, and as such, he has a few things to say about summit1g’s attempts at getting into the new battle royale. Even though Apex Legends is only a few days olds, big time streamers are already looking forward to a rumored $50,000 tournament to take early bragging rights in the title. During his stream on February 6, Dr Disrespect was asked if summit had a good chance to compete for the upcoming $50k pot, which prompted a typical response from the Doc. “He’s lost his skill, man,” Dr Disrespect said. “He’s been jumping from one ship to the other in the middle of the open seas… [Apex Legends] is where the big boys are playing right now. Ain’t no hiding in the Captain’s Quarters, you can’t hide in this game. If that guy EVER crosses my path in this game: night.” The Doc was, of course, referring to Sea of Thieves where he’s frequently seen patiently waiting on rival ships for the opportune moment to strike or dupe his opponents. Due to the passive nature of summit’s play, Dr Disrespect surmised that the former CS:GO pro isn’t ready for the high-octane action routinely seen in Apex Legends. The Doc finished his spirited retort with a friendly warning toward summit. The quip was obviously another entry in the Doc’s brand of aggressive humor, but it sent his chat in a craze all the same. Streamers are filling up Apex Legends’ servers, so battles between the Doc and summit might not be too far off on the horizon.

  • Dr Disrespect explains why he can’t enjoy Apex Legends after hilarious rage quit – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect explains why he can’t enjoy Apex Legends after hilarious rage quit Dr Disrespect – Twitch / EAApex Legends isn’t satisfying his needs after having one of his classic rage moments. Coming off a nearly month-long ban, the Doc is back in full force sharing his violence, speed, and momentum with the gaming community. He gave the new season of Apex Legends a whirl but quickly determined it wasn’t for him and explained how it just never felt right to him. Doc hasn’t liked what he has seen so far with Apex Legends Season 2. Instead of playing with a squad of friends, Doc went into Apex playing with randoms and that’s always a recipe for disaster. As he was hitting the ground, he quickly went for the gold body armor, which was snagged by a teammate just before him, causing him to go on a profanity-laced tirade. Due to there not being many other options out there, the Two-time is still playing Apex, but you can definitely tell he’s not enjoying it a whole lot. “I don’t feel like playing Apex, I don’t know,” he said. “It just doesn’t satisfy me, I don’t know, man. It’s one of those games that just never really satisfied me. It just doesn’t satisfy that little tick that I’m looking for in a game, it never has. I don’t know, the thrill of killing someone or downing someone, I don’t get it from it. Doc is notoriously tough on games but he generally hasn’t had a lot of positive things to say about Apex Legends since its launch. He has noted before that the game was headed down a similar path that doomed H1Z1, and it doesn’t sound like he’s really backed off that stance. The self-proclaimed face of Twitch has only been back on the platform for two days now but he has already complained about Apex and had a good old fashioned rage aimed at the battle royale. In fact, the body armor rage wasn’t even the first one he had. “What is this game,” he yelled. “Get me off this game. Get me off of it. I don’t wanna play this game. I’m already falling asleep playing this game.” Unfortunately, it’s pretty much between this, Fortnite and PUBG and we’re honestly not sure what Doc would prefer at this point.

  • Dr Disrespect explains why Fortnite has been more successful than Apex Legends – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect explains why Fortnite has been more successful than Apex Legends Prominent streamer Dr Disrespect believes that a specific aspect of Fortnite Battle Royale has allowed it to be more successful than Apex Legends, and he’s revealed the reason live on stream. It’s no secret that the Doc is not the world’s biggest fan of Fortnite BR, having raged at the game and uninstalled it live on stream on countless occasions. However, not even he could deny the virtually unprecedented levels of success the popular battle royale has reached since its release, becoming a worldwide phenomenon that’s even spilled over the boundaries of gaming and culture. Discussing the game during his June 10 livestream, the Two-Time cited its building mechanic as one of the major reasons why so many people “latched” on it, considering how revolutionary it was when first introduced. “What made that game so intriguing and why people latched on it was this ability to build a wall and a ramp while you’re fighting somebody at the same time, in real time,” he said. “It was a new mechanic, and it created a skill gap. That second-to-second mechanic, I’m not seeing a lot of from the industry.” He contrasted Fortnite BR’s complex building feature with the special abilities that players can use while Apex Legends, explaining that Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale simply does not have the depth in its innovation to keep up. He confessed that the abilities in Apex, as creative as they may be, simply come down to players pressing a singular button that then activates something, which lacks in that “second-to-second” interaction that Epic Games’ game has done so well to nail down. “The exact opposite approach is like Apex, for example,” he explained. “All you did is press a button at a certain time, and you go invisible for a set amount of time, and then you’re out of it. There’s not a lot of control; you’re not giving full control to the player. All their abilities are very ‘let me touch the button, and I have to perform something for a certain amount of time.’ No no no.” Despite Doc’s comments, there is still a lot to be optimistic about right now for fans of Apex Legends, considering that the upcoming Season 2 is expected to be a lot more exciting and packed with content than the first. The second season will introduce the brand new Legend Wattson, a new weapon called the L-STAR, and possibly even dragon-like creatures that players can use to move around. Season 2, called Battle Charge, will go live on July 2, 2019, featuring a new and improved Battle Pass that is going to be “even bigger and better.”

The popular Twitch streamer is never one to mince his words on the streaming platform and when he has a problem with a game, more often than not he’ll just say it – especially after being eliminated. Before producing another of his infamous table slams on July 23, the Doc was astonished to find that despite wearing his huge headset on stream, he was unable to hear an opponent that was right on his tail. The Two-Time was about to revive his teammate before he was shocked to find that he was being shot from behind. “Oh yeah, nice footsteps” he said, before slamming his hands onto the table. “I’m so fucking tired of this game. It’s literally so incomplete.” He added: “I mean, I heard the footsteps? No you didn’t you idiot. You heard it when he was right above us. Not where it should have been. Still feels like a beta? More like a pre-alpha.” This isn’t the first time that the Doc has been left unimpressed by the popular battle royale title, though, and there seems to be a broad range to his complaints now too. On July 22 he was left completely dumbfounded when his gun didn’t reload as it normally should, and this time Dr Disrespect seemed to have a problem with the audio in-game. Whether or not he will continue to play Respawn’s game for much longer remains to be seen, but a hiatus from Apex Legends could soon be on the cards if problems continue to surface while he’s streaming it.

  • Dr Disrespect explains why Apex Legends should add Ranked Play – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect explains why Apex Legends should add Ranked Play Apex Legends has been out for less than a week on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, but already fans and are calling for updates to increase the game’s chances at standing out – including one of the biggest streamers, Dr Disrespect. Some fans are desperate for a Ranked Play mode to be added to the popular new title – something that hasn’t been implemented successfully in a big Battle Royale game to date and would separate Apex from competitors. Dr Disrespect aims to be the best in every game he plays, and this hasn’t changed since the release of Apex Legends on February 4. Now, The Doc is hoping that a Ranked Play aspect will be added to the free-to-play title to make it more competitive and to stand out from its rivals – mainly Fortnite. “Yeah, and people are saying ranked mode,” The Doc stated during his February 7 stream. “We have yet to see a ranked mode, a competitive mode, for a Battle Royale. Other than the tournaments that go on in Fortnite, the in-game tournaments whatever you call those, the Pop-Up Cups, which are kind of competitive. But an actual true, ranked playlist might be interesting because then it’ll feel like we’re playing for something.” He added: “That’s what we haven’t been getting with a lot of Battle Royales, like, are we playing for something other than trying to be the last team alive. And it’s easy, right. Fourteen wins yesterday.” Different leaderboards exist in a number of the popular Battle Royale titles to give a somewhat ranked aspect to the success that players can track. However, that’s not exactly what Doc is getting out – perhaps wanting a system where the best players only play against others who are on a similar standing to them, instead of dropping in against everyone. That would take away one of the more infuriating aspects of streaming Battle Royale titles – stream sniping. It would also be handy for someone like The Doc who is always trying to prove just how far ahead of the competition he really is. With games like CS:GO, League of Legends, Overwatch and even Hearthstone showing how well a competitive matchmaking, or ranked, system can work in various types of games, it isn’t too difficult to imagine it working in Apex Legends.

  • Dr Disrespect explains why Apex Legends feels like a “demo” – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect explains why Apex Legends feels like a “demo” Respawn Entertainment / Twitch: drdisrespectTwitch streamer Dr Disrespect was one of the many big name streamers who were involved in the launch and promotion of Apex Legends as an ‘Apex Partner’, but two months later he rarely plays – explaining that it still feels like a ‘demo’. Along with fellow streamers like Michael ‘shroud‘ Grzesiek and Jack ‘CouRage‘ Dunlop, the Doc was even invited out to play and test the game prior to release, giving feedback to Respawn Entertainment. At first, it all seemed to work out, as Apex launched to unprecedented popularity, reaching 50 million players in only a month, making it the most successful launch of a free-to-play game ever. In that first month, of February 2019, Apex Legends generated $92 million from in-game spending across all platforms, but its massive momentum has slowed noticeably. Although the exact number of players is unknown, the viewing figures on Twitch have plummeted, and this is largely due to the big names like shroud and Dr Disrespect not streaming the game. On April 24, a viewer put the question to the Doc, asking why he had gone off the game. “It’s a lot of fun, but it feels like it’s an incomplete product,” he responded, “it’s a bit like a demo, that’s what it feels like.” “I like the demo, but I can’t play the demo for very long. I want the complete package, I want the selection of multiple maps, I want more legends, I want more stuff happening with the game.” Apex Legends content leaves players feeling burnt out Dr Disrespect certainly isn’t alone in this estimation either, as many players have voiced concern with the slow drip of new content in the game. Since launch on February 4, only one new weapon has been added, and one new legend. The battle pass rewards for Season 1 underwhelmed too, which subsequently dropped expectations for what Season 2 might hold as well.

  • Dr Disrespect explains major issue with Rampart in Apex Legends Season 13 – Dexerto

Dr Disrespect explains major issue with Rampart in Apex Legends Season 13 YT: Dr Disrespect / Respawn EntertainmentYouTube streamer Dr Disrespect has outlined his major issue with Rampart in Apex Legends Season 13, explaining why he won’t be playing with the Amped Modder moving forwards. Dr Disrespect made a long-awaited return to Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends with Season 13, dropping into Storm Point to try out Newcastle and see all the map changes have to offer. However, in a discussion about which legend he’ll use moving forwards, the Doc outlined why it won’t be Rampart, despite her intimidating Sheila Minigun and useful utility. Speaking in a May 13 live stream, Doc outlined why he’s considering making a switch to being a Rampart main but ultimately won’t be playing with her. While her Minigun and Amped Cover give her tremendous firepower, her naturally defensive playstyle makes her less fun, especially for someone so enamored with violence, speed and momentum. “Rampart is boring,” he read, before agreeing: “Yeah that’s the only thing – there’s not much else she can do other than lay down shields and then take out the machine gun. That’s it. And her shields get shot out like this. Takes like two shots, bum bum down done. I kinda agree that’s the only thing with Rampart.” He finished: “Like there’s nothing else that makes me wanna play her other than that machine gun and take that thing for a spin. But is that really helping out the team?” His comments are a fairly common sentiment in the Apex Legends community, with Rampart long being way down the pick rate pecking order because she is so defensively-minded. At the start of Season 13, she is down in fifteenth on the list of most-picked legends, with just a 2.5% pick rate. Whether Respawn look to buff her is another matter, but Doc viewers can expert more Bloodhound for now.
