Clues suggest new planet and map for Apex Legends Season 3 The third season of Apex Legends is right around the corner, starting on October 1, and there’s lots of excitement about what might be coming, with some theories even suggesting a new map is in the works. Admittedly, this theory is somewhat optimistic, drawing on various small hints and teasers and bringing them together to form the bigger picture. It suggests that a new location, away from Kings Canyon, called Psamathe, could either join or even replace the current map in Apex Legends. What is Psamathe? Psamathe is a planet in the Titanfall universe, and actually happens to be the birthplace of both Lifeline and Octane. The planet was first mentioned in related to Apex Legends after the attack of the flyers and leviathans at the start of Season 2. In a blog post on the official website, it’s stated that “Images of the disaster (in Kings Canyon) have been splashed across holoscreens from Solace to Psamathe.” Season 3 is called ‘Meltdown’, but it was previously leaked as being named ‘Fire and Ice’.In fact, in the Season 3 announcement, one line teases some kind of Fire and Ice situation, stating: “Drop in and put your enemies on Ice”, while the Italian version translates to “Eliminate enemies and explore lava and ice scenarios” Another clue is this concept art for Lifeline – lava can be seen in the background of the icey land. Crypto teases new planet Bringing all these clues together is the lore for new Legend Crypto, who is joining the lineup of characters at the start of Season 3. In a cryptic message, he wrote: “I took down the Repulsor tower. I had no idea it would be so insane. I’m hoping the damage was enough to close Kings Canyon, so I can hitch a ride on the dropship off Solace, and find the evidence I need somewhere in New Dawn. “I just hope I see you one last time, and I don’t get blown up before I go off-planet.” Perhaps the biggest clue is the large ‘space elevator’ which was teased on September 25. This space elevator could perhaps be how the Legends are transported off Solace, and onto Psamathe. 400All of this should be taken with a helping of salt of course, as it is far from confirmed, but there are a lot of clues here that could be pointing to the Apex games moving to a new location for Season 3. With less than a week to go until the new season starts, we’ll all know soon enough.

Cloud9 returns to Apex Legends after two year absence from ALGS Cloud9Cloud9 has returned to ALGS after a two year absence from Apex Legends with the signing of a free agent North American squad. Right before the start of the 2023 season, Cloud9, one of North America’s most prestigious esports orgs, let go of their ALGS squad due to financial reasons, according to the players. This was particularly shattering for fans as 2022 was a successful year for the squad, making it to the Split 2 Playoffs and Championship, finishing a promising 10th and 15th respectively. Now, after a two-year absence from the scene, Cloud9 has announced their return to Apex Legends with the signing of a free-agent NA squad, with some familiar names. Announced on their official X account (formerly known as Twitter), Paris “StayNaughty” Gouzoulis, Nathan “ChaoticMuch” Gajkiewicz and Jason “Sauceror” Li have signed on to Cloud9. Joining them on the coaching staff is Bryan “iShiny” McCarthy as their Head Coach and Alex “coldjyn” Nicholls as their analyst. To the Cloud9 faithful, StayNaughty’s appearance will be a welcome addition as he was on Cloud9 before the org originally left the scene in 2022. ChaoticMuch is notable for once playing on G2 Esports and Sauceror once playing for Renegades, however, has been playing on free agent teams for the better part of 2023. The three-man squad had already qualified for the 2024 Split 1 NA Pro League under the free-agent team GKS, and is currently still in the tournament.Currently, the squad sits 12th on the table at the NA ALGS Split 1, right at the last spot to qualify for the Split 1 Playoffs in May. The Finals is slated to be played on March 17 among the top 20 teams, with the top 12 teams qualifying themselves for the Playoffs while the rest gets to wait for Split 2 NA Pro League starts up again.

Cloud9 PVPX uses perfect Crypto trick to beat Apex Legends door blockers Respawn EntertainmentCloud9 Apex Legends pro Jamison ‘PVPX’ Moore showed how Crypto could be one of the more effective characters to breach a room being safeguarded by door blockers. The battle royale already lets people kick down doors if something is preventing them from opening it, but the animation locks players momentarily – leaving them wide open for a deadly counterattack. Luckily, there’s a sly way to use Crypto’s drone that will take a bit of skilled maneuvering to pull off, but can turn up the pressure on a team who think they’re safely held up inside of a building. During a ranked game, PVPX and co came at a standstill against a team who were blocking the entrances of their two-story structure. As his teammates were moving in, American pro used the drone to scout the perimeter of the building. In front of him was the door that was being blocked by an opponent. So the pro quickly reexamined their point of attack and sent the drone to the other end of the structure where a back door was being unguarded – just barely beating an enemy running up the entryway. Using the drone to open the backdoor, PVPX quickly maneuvered his way upstairs where he spotted a crouching Wraith blocking the initial point of entry. While the Wraith’s attention was aimed at the invading drone, PVPX hacked the entrance they were blocking – swinging the door outward and giving his teammate a clean shot at the opponent. The attack also took the second opponent in the building by surprise, resulting in a quick clean up by PVPX’s teammate. There are plenty of tricks that the remote drone can do in Apex that some people might not be aware of. “I just recently started playing Crypto and omg, you just made me even more excited to play him!” Reddit user ‘Childish_Tevino1214’ said after watching the play. A breach like this can be tricky to do in other situations, but most buildings in the Apex Games have alternate points of access that could be used to take door blockers by surprise.

Cloak gets instant karma after celebrating too soon on Apex Legends Twitch: cloak / Respawn EntertainmentDennis ‘Apex Legends seconds after he thought he had won a match. Like many streamers, Cloak hopped on to Respawn Entertainment’s popular battle royale title on Tuesday, August 13 after the drop of the Iron Crown Collection event, which introduced Solos mode for a limited time. The Fortnite pro player’s talents clearly translated well onto the rival game, dominating his opponents with pin-point accuracy, and was well on his way to a victory – until his showboating on the final elimination cost him dearly. The 24-year-old was seconds away from winning his first Apex Legends Solos match, and discovered his final opponent hiding behind a rock just as the circle closed in around him. After dealing some damage with the R-99, Cloak decided to use his Finisher, a special animation that can be used to kill enemies with style, raising his arms in delight as he watched it unfold, telling his chat he was “the best player in the game!” His happiness was quickly replaced with shock though, as the animation finished, but he was declared as the second place finisher, with his opponent picking up the win. Unsurprisingly, the streamer was visibly confused, unable to comprehend how he had just lost the match, staring at the screen and his chat before finally shouting: “What? I had this guy down!” What Cloak didn’t realize was that even if you’re in the middle of a finishing animation, you still take damage when the zone closes around you, and because it was so close to the end of the match, the health points he lost were enough to eliminate him before he finished executing his opponent. While Cloak didn’t take his embarrassing defeat too badly, he did argue that his opponent should have died first, before hopping back in the game, and going on to win his second match with ease – making sure to celebrate once he had been confirmed as Apex Champion!

As the Apex Legends seasons have been unfolding, players – rookies and veterans – have been finding new ways to use their favorite legends. It could be something as simple as holding a button rather than tapping to use an ability in a different way or getting a bit more in-depth by learning timings. For Wraith, in particular, players have been continuing to come up with new ways to use the Interdimensional Skirmisher in the battle royale depending on their play style. Though, this newest tip doesn’t rely on your play style, but more so on enemies who decide they want to get greedy and chase you through your own portal in the hopes of taking you down. It comes courtesy of Redditor Vikovi, who pointed out that if you jump before setting a portal exit, enemies who run through it after you will have a small fall to the floor. That’s right if you leave a gap between the portal exit and the ground, enemies who pop through will become a stationary target for a few moments. Provided you’ve got a fast-firing weapon, say the R-99, you’ll have enough time to unload a magazine or two into them. Though, you can get a bit more devious with things too. As Vikovi showed, if you happen to have a Thermite Grenade handy, pop that down as enemies are coming through and you’ll make life even more difficult for them. Of course, while a handy trick, it does all boil down to hoping that the enemies decide to get a little crazy and chase you through. If they don’t decide to make the leap of faith, then you’ve just got a portal floating in the air and that could make you easier to spot to someone else.

Clever Wattson ability buff is exactly what she needs in Apex Legends Apex Legends’ very own Static Defender, Wattson, is well overdue a buff to restore the character back to her former glory days – and this clever idea might do just that. Ever since the plethora of changes were ushered in as part of Season 3, Wattson has struggled to compete with some of the other Legends in the current meta. World’s Edge sports a variety of terrains and plenty of open spaces, meaning that close-quarters combat occurs less frequently than in Kings Canyon. Wattson’s abilities, for the most part, revolve around suppressing enemy aggression. However, with World’s Edge being a sniper’s paradise, Wattson’s abilities have been somewhat nullified. Although her abilities still stand strong in certain situations, other Legends are being prioritized since their ability set works well under the current meta and map. For example, Pathfinder’s Zipline helps squads swiftly transition through open areas and high buildings, which would otherwise prove troublesome. However, one Reddit user has presented a unique buff idea that might swing the meta back in the electrical engineer’s favor after a flurry of nerfs. Posted to the Apex Legends subreddit, the user explained a concept of how Wattson could use “broken” respawn beacons to revive downed allies. “This could be balanced by taking twice as long, making a sh*t ton of noise, having only one use per match, or some mix of the above,” the user explained. “I think the idea would also be pretty in-line with her character.” By providing the Static Defender with the ability to utilize used beacons, this would greatly enhance her appeal. Since after all, the Apex Games is heavily reliant on pooling all of your teammate’s abilities to give your squad the greatest chance to being crowned Apex Champions. The concept was lapped up by fellow Reddiors in the comments. One user commented on the effects on the game’s meta: “I like this idea. That would make it a high risk/high reward thing, since observant players might be watching the map for respawn beacons to reappear.” Although the ability would greatly enhance Wattson’s appeal as a Legend, Respawn would be tasked with incorporating an appropriate counter that balances this Passive Ability accordingly. Other fans of the battle royale have also suggested improving Crypto’s ability set in a bid to make him more appealing. As part of that, they proposed that his EMP drone could temporarily stun Wattson’s Interception Pylon — perhaps providing the counter that Respawn would need?”

One Legend that takes a lot of practice to master is Valkyrie as her jetpack and rocket abilities are extremely difficult to use efficiently in the heat of battle. Of course, that hasn’t stopped skilled players from learning everything there is to know about her kit, and even figuring out how to shoot her tactical directly backwards without turning around. Valkyrie rocket trick makes it easy to escape enemies A thread posted to the Apex University subreddit showcasing a useful Valkyrie trick has garnered over 3,000 upvotes at the time of writing. After playing the Winged Avenger a lot since her release back in Season 9, ColorBreaker discovered a clever technique that allows Valkyrie to shoot her rockets directly backwards while retreating. In order to perform the trick, you’ll need to jump and shoot Valkyrie’s tactical ability directly at your feet while in mid-air. Although ColorBreaker makes it look easy, it can take a few attempts to get the timing completely right. If you’re struggling to master the technique, it may be down to you shooting your rockets too early. Ensure you’re at the highest point of your jump before you fire your tactical into the ground. As any Apex Legends player will know, turning around to use an ability when fleeing an enemy squad is usually a death sentence. So, being able to fire your rockets backwards on Valkyrie while maintaining your speed is an incredibly useful tip. The stun inflicted by her tactical will usually be enough to slow down and sometimes even deter a set of opponents completely. For any players aspiring to master Valkyrie and reach a higher tier in ranked, this is definitely a technique that you need to add to your arsenal.

Clever Pathfinder trick makes Apex Legends looting a breeze Respawn/EAAn Apex Legends player has uncovered a trick that will make looting while playing as Pathfinder an absolute breeze – especially if you manage to find a loot tick. Like other battle royales, Apex Legends has a number of different ways for players to grab themselves some loot. There are floor spawns, supply bins, and even loot vaults – with the latter having some of the best items that can be found in-game inside their doors. There are also loot ticks, the small robot creatures that players see when they open up an Apex Pack. These are scattered around the map at random for each game but are incredibly rare to find. Though, if you do manage to find one, you won’t have to be on top of it to grab the loot inside. The new trick was pointed out by Reddit user Fatmanspoop, who posted a game from one of their recent games to the Apex Legends subreddit. While playing as Pathfinder, the Redditor was able to pull a loot tick towards them using the legend’s grapple hook ability, with the pair colliding in midair and the tick falling at their feet. Unlike how it worked previously, the loot tick didn’t immediately pop open with loot like a Pinata. Instead, the Redditor was able to play around with the item for a few moments – pulling it around the room and getting the loot tick stuck on a number of different environmental objects. Some other Redditors pointed out that they’d uncovered the trick awhile back, but, obviously, not everyone had made the discovery for themselves. The Apex fan even pointed out that, in the future, players might be able to pull an enemy death box towards them with the grapple ability – though that might make Pathfinder even more overpowered than usual. Of course, a tweak like that would have to come from Respawn themselves, and they haven’t hinted at any major changes recently. For now, though, at least you can use Pathfinder’s grapple hook to bring a loot tick closer to you, even if they are exceedingly rare to uncover.

Clever Newcastle main dreams up brilliant Apex Legends change to help new players Respawn EntertainmentA crafty Apex Legends player has dreamed up a small addition to the game that could help players of all ranks realize Newcastle’s full potential. Newcastle is one of the newer additions to the Apex roster. He arrived in Season 13 and floated around the meta for a while after release. While some pro players predict that he’ll be making a big splash as Season 16 continues, he doesn’t get the same appreciation at the lower ranks of Apex Legends. This isn’t a great surprise to the community though. The big guy is all about teamwork, and that’s something that has to be learned through experience. However, one player has suggested that Respawn could help fledgling players understand him better with the tiniest of additions. Apex Legends fan suggests brilliant change to help Newcastle mains Newcastle is a combat medic similar to his sister Lifeline. While she’s all about getting people back on their feet and back to full health, big brother prefers to dive into the battle and drag his teammates to safety through the use of his shield. What’s important to understand here is that the higher quality of the knockdown shield that Newcastle has, the stronger protection he has from incoming fire as he attempts to pick his squadmates up. That’s why Reddit user Shocker_103 is pleading with Respawn to add a note to the game that suggests players should give up their squads best Knockdown Shield to their friendly Newcastle. “Respawn please consider putting some sort of indicator to encourage players to give Newcastle a better knockdown shield,” they begged. This is standard practice at the higher levels of play, but for newer players or those who don’t regularly play with him in their squad, it might not be as obvious a choice. However, giving Newcastle more opportunities to save a team from sticky situations can only result in massive benefits in productivity for him. There’s no telling whether Respawn will actually pull the trigger on something like this, but making every Legend more approachable could be beneficial to the game.

Clever Loba teleport trick gives access to blocked areas in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are discovering the vast depths of possibilities offered by the game’s latest character, Loba, and her teleportation ability—including one previously inaccessible location. Respawn Entertainment’s Legends are all human-sized, but Loba’s teleportation ability allows her to teleport through areas that are the size of her bracelet. That opens up a whole world of opportunities and the game’s player base is getting inventive. Loba’s tactical ability is the “Burglar’s Best Friend,” in which she can throw her “Jump Drive” bracelet and teleport to difficult-to-reach spots. Apparently, this can also be used to reach otherwise-unreachable locations. As shown by ‘URBOYTOM’ on Reddit, the sophisticated thief’s bracelet can be capitalized on in ways that completely confuse other teams. In this particular instance, already down one in a fight against the last remaining opposing squad, URBOYTOM was able to hide in a discreet compartment within a building, discouraging their foes until they decided to teleport back out and secure surprise kills. The enemies were perplexed and URBOYTOM’s team was able to easily pounce on that hesitation. To access this specific spot, Loba must angle her bracelet at precisely the right point at the top of the cage. The fit is very tight, just about the size of a bracelet, but it can be pulled off and lead to unlimited sneak potential. What remains unclear is whether this is an intended function or not. While some Apex Legends fans believe that this is a glitch location, others wonder if Loba is technically intended to have access to areas that the rest of the game’s cast does not. This particular example is by no means a game-breaking one, as shots can still hit Loba in there and, should she be killed in there, her team should not be able to revive her or recover her banner (although this has not been tested as of yet). It likely has higher risk than reward, in that case, making it a fully acceptable mechanic—albeit one that is bound to surprise teams should it begin gaining popularity. Now, all that’s left to find out is what other locations Loba’s bracelet can provide access to. There are limitations to the ability’s efficiency, since your teammates can’t teleport too, but this could foreseeably open up interesting options for formerly unused features of Apex Legends’ maps.

As a member of the original Apex Legends roster and the only healer in the Outlands, Lifeline is an iconic character in Respawn’s battle royale. Although she maintains a respectable 4.4% pick rate in Season 14, a lot of the community still believes she’s underpowered and needs more attention. However, after receiving a set of significant buffs in the Awakening Collection Event, it’s unlikely the devs will introduce any changes to her kit in the near future. Well, instead of waiting for Respawn, one player decided to develop their own buff for the Combat Medic, and it involves massively improving her Passive revive. Simple Lifeline buff concept enhances her Passive revive Apex Legends player and Reddit user brickbony not only came up with a clever Lifeline buff, but they also made an in-game concept to demonstrate how it would work. Instead of having to run up to her teammates to activate her Passive, brickbony has suggested that the Combat Medic should be able to remotely deploy her revive from a distance. This would allow Lifeline to revive allies from a safe position which could be absolutely essential in a tense gunfight. Not only that, but the remote revive could also be used as a distraction to outplay enemies and get their attention before looking for a flank. As showcased in the concept, the range on the revive wouldn’t be huge, so it would still be relatively easy for enemies to detect a nearby Lifeline. However, it would give the Combat Medic a slight boost in power without making her OP or a must-use Legend. Either way, let’s hope Respawn take note of the idea and potentially use it in the future if they feel Lifeline is in need of some assistance.

Clever Lifeline buff idea steals Bangalore ability for quicker revives in Apex Legends Respawn/EAApex Legends fans are urging Respawn Entertainment to hand Lifeline a buff that somewhat copies an ability they’ve already given to Bangalore to help her revive teammates more swiftly. Over the last few years, Apex Legends fans haven’t been shy in calling upon Respawn Entertainment to make some changes to the Legends – with some being a bit more creative than others with their ideas. With Season 14 quickly approaching, and Vantage joining the Apex Games as the newest legend, fans have once again been pulling out ideas for buffs and nerfs to the current roster of characters. Lifeline has been one of the legends that has received the most attention from fans, with many wanting to see her Care Package ultimate tweaked in some form – perhaps giving her the ability to craft with it. Though, some fans want some other things. Lifeline speed boost buff is a neat idea for Apex Legends One Redditor, Dima38, suggested that Respawn should give the Combat Medic a speed boost similar to Bangalore’s Double Time passive. In their idea, whenever one of Lifeline’s team is knocked by an enemy team, she’d receive a slight speed boost. This would increase if a second teammate is also knocked, making it easy for Lifeline to reposition and attempt to trigger a revive. “Add (a) certain range you need to be from downed ally or direction like boost towards an ally and I don’t see how this is not a good idea,” said EvilFNTeddy in support of it. “It should be like a passive that she’s faster towards teammates at all time (with some range criteria),” agreed another. Some fans disagreed with the idea, saying that the Combat Medic is in a good spot overall following her recent buffs, but noted that her Ultimate could still use a bit of work. It remains to be seen as to what Respawn has up their sleeve for buffs and nerfs in Season 14, and while we don’t suspect this one will be a part of them, it wouldn’t be a bad idea for them to keep for a future Lifeline rework.

Clever Havoc trick in Apex Legends lets you store charge and insta-fire Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer UQowmNq2]The Havoc is one of the most imposing guns in all of Apex Legends, often considered the battle royale’s most overpowered weapon, but a recently shown Selectfire trick makes it even deadlier. For some, the Havoc’s efficacy can feel hindered by the shot’s charging time. Whether using it as an automatic AR or single-fire with the Selectfire Hop-Up, it has a slight charge-up before bullets start launching. Once it does get going, the assault rifle is staggeringly accurate with absurd bullet velocity and high-damage per shot. That makes the slight delay worthwhile, but players have discovered a way to store one shot that can be loosed without delay. The recoil is very easy to control and the shots pack an Andy Ruiz Jr.-esque punch despite hitting sooner and faster than every single automatic weapon in the game. The gun can switch to single-fire with a Hop-Up, turning it into a hitscan beam quasi-sniper that takes more ammo per shot, but does devastating damage without any falloff for leg shots. While that too typically requires a charge, Redditor ‘alfons100’ has shown how you can circumvent that for one shot in Season 5. While it’s unclear whether this is a bug or not, they demonstrate that you can successfully store and shoot one single-fire beam sans delay. As they explain, prior to Season 4 you could also do the inverse, hitting one charge-less shot on the automatic setting like a poor man’s Turbocharger. That was shadow-fixed, but this one remains doable in the game as long as you have Selectfire attached and start in single-fire mode. How to store a charge and insta-fire your Havoc Beginning on single-fire, hold down the button to shoot. – Quickly, before the shot releases, toggle to automatic and back to single-fire (at this point, you can release the button to shoot). – Once back on single-fire, you can aim in and fire your first shot instantly. – This poor fella is gonna hear the single fire havoc audio in his nightmares tonighthttps://t.co/nVSll0TAS3 pic.twitter.com/OO3BUP5tXq — Gio_Dude (@gio_dudettv) April 17, 2020 The Havoc is a straight laser on single-fire, working like a quicker Charge Rifle that can dominate from medium to long-range if you hit your shots. This makes the gun incredibly versatile, especially since it outduels most weapons when used automatically at slightly closer ranges. Using the stored-shot trick isn’t going to completely shift fights, but it can certainly help you get an advantage. Just remember, if you do anything that the charge will no longer be stored if you stow your weapon to run or switch back to auto.

Clever change to Apex Legends’ Wraith portal would make it more reliable Wraith is already one of the most popular and strongest characters in Apex Legends and this really simple change would make her even more effective. One thing that sets Wraith apart from her counterparts in Apex is the ability to phasewalk and create portals. Her mobility is through the roof, with perhaps only Pathfinder being the only other character who has the chance to match out. However, there’s one small change the developers could make that would actually make Wraith even more powerful and it’s adding a timer to show players just how long her portals will stay open for. We’ve all been there – you’re trying to escape a firefight so you run to your portal for an escape, just to see it disappear as soon as you arrive. While some players have gotten the timing on these portals down, it would be much more beneficial if something showed up on your screen that indicated how much time the portal really had left. Situations like this would be a lot less common if that was added in since players could change up their playstyles accordingly. Reddit user DesertGraffitiMaker created a mockup showing just how this feature could appear on your screen, complete with a countdown timer. At the end of the day, it’s not too much of a big deal if we don’t receive it in the game. There are certainly a lot of upsides to adding it into the game and they far outweigh the cons. Portals are already strong as they are so we understand if Respawn doesn’t want to make them any more powerful. For now, players will have to keep track of the portal timer in their head and hope nothing is mistimed. Respawn developers have shown a tendency to listen to the community so it’s possible a feature like this could be in the pipeline well down the road. The helpful tip was posted to the Apex Legends subreddit by user AsymmetricSquid, who pointed out that Wattson’s trap can interact with the huge doors at Harvester in a unique manner. In the Redditor’s video, they showcased how, when the pylons for the fence at placed in-line with the door and the door is then closed, it will cut out the electric circuit temporarily – making it invisible, while also producing no warning sound. However, if you open the door up again, the trap springs back into action and works just as normal, seemingly giving players a pretty big shock as they run into the unexpected electric fence. Of course, the tip for the fence is pretty situational and requires you to be at the Harvester while also having enough time to line everything up. With the location being such a hot spot for activity, who knows when you’d have the time to get it together. There’s also the possibility that players who are not in danger of being affected by the trap, say in the middle circle of the Harvester, could disable the pylon and save everyone else from trouble. But, after all, it is a pretty neat trick and one that we could see players attempting to pull off in-game soon. After all, who knows what other doors can help the trap become invisible.

It’s a common tactic in Apex for players to use a closed door as cover, stopping their enemy entering and forcing them to punch it for entry. But, since the Jump Pad can go straight under the door, Octane can simply bounce them out of the way. From being in a position where the enemy Wraith held all of the cards, to simply outsmarting their foe with the simple use of their Jump Pad, Ichori really did think outside of the box with this strat. The Redditor had been beating down an enemy Loba before she tried to use the bracelet. As Loba was just set to make her jump, RAIIVN gave her another punch and ended up teleporting with her. It was bad news for the Loba, however, as their plan to escape didn’t work. The Redditor ended up just using their fists to knock her out of the game and got a free teleport as a result. While some players noted that it is an interesting technique, others claimed that what had happened was actually a glitch and that the Redditor should never have teleported with Loba. Shared to the Apex Legends subreddit on April 23, the fan’s proposals constitute a pretty major overhaul of nearly all Lifeline’s abilities. The only ability to remain the same is her Tactical – the D.O.C drone. Her current Passive ability, ‘Combat Medic’, is replaced by ‘Real Combat Medic’. The new proposal constitutes a buff to the ability, seeing the aforementioned D.O.C drone come in to finish the revival of any teammate. Similarly, her Ultimate care package ability is done away with, replaced by the ‘Circle of Trust’. “Teammates within the vicinity are hit with three healing pulses, each one providing 25 health,” the proposal says. “You have full mobility during the pulses so you don’t have to stop moving.” The Redditor delved a little bit deeper into how each new ability would work: “Passive – I envision a custom animation where Lifeline uses DOC like a defibrillator… Ultimate – I envision a green circle on the ground similar to Bloodhounds old scan, prior to each pulse giving away that its coming.” While there are no guarantees Respawn are lining up a rework for Lifeline, the post’s popularity suggests there is a demand for it in the player base.

That’s why players will spend hours upon hours testing different ideas to come up with some tricks and tips that give them a leg up on the opponents. Some are a bit complicated – like using Pathfinder to rotate underneath World’s Edge – while others are much more simple, such as throwing down a purple shield as bait to lure enemies in. Well, now some Apex players are using Holo Sprays as an early warning system to get a heads up on when an enemy squad is coming near them. It’s pretty simple, but it relies on the enemy not only being aggressive enough to push your position, but also them tagging your Holo Spray when they’re pining whatever area you’re sat in. As Reddit user Nyathra shows, if you throw a Holo Spray and the enemy pings it, you’ll get an on-screen message saying that they ‘liked’ your Holo Spray. So, if you’re holding down a certain position, you’ll know where the enemies are coming from, but if it’s out in the open, things might be a little more difficult. If you ever find yourself defending an area, always throw down a Holo-spray. By doing so, if the enemy ever pings that same location, you’ll get an notification of them “liking” your Holo-spray, indicating that they are possibly planning to attack you. That’s right, you can hide in a corner, throw out Crypto’s drone, find a survey beacon, and then use the drone to scan. You don’t need to be stood next to the beacon when playing as Crypto. By using the drone, you can always speed up the process of having the beacon search for the next ring. It only takes a split second when using the drone instead of the three or four seconds it would being stood there as Crypto. This means that if you choose to play slowly on the edge of the ring, you won’t have to give your position up to get the jump on the next rotation. Just toss out the drone and let it do the work for you. As helpful as it is, the tip isn’t completely foolproof. For starters, you obviously have to have a beacon inside the range of the drone – you can’t just fly around the map looking for one. On top of that, you’ll also have to hope that no one decides to shoot your drone down mid-flight, otherwise, your plan will be blown to bits.

Twitch streamer ‘KSWINNIIE’ and his crew were in a heated battle in a Ranked Predators lobby when he made the call to combine their abilities. What happened next looked like a really messed up game of fish-in-a-barrel. With the ring closing in on their opponents’ backs and having to scale a huge wall to go forward, KSWINNIIE and co. turned up the heat. First, Fuse’s Motherlode bombardment created the ring of fire to enclose the team. Then, with the help of Horizon’s Gravity Lift, KSWINNIIE found the angle to lay down the Black Hole ult. After that it was just a matter of playing with their food by throwing every nade and arc star into the pit of death. With only four squads left in the game, this was a quick way to clear out a whole team. A lot of stars need to line up to get the most out of this combo, but if you find the right opportunity then you can really lay down some damage. Both Fuse and Horizon received buffs in the Season 10 Emergence patch update, but they haven’t really been climbing the pick rate just yet. Imagine being able to lure in an enemy squad at the promise of high-tier loot, only for them to be met by a flurry of explosions which would make it easy to swoop in and get the squad-wipe. While Echo could quite well be the perfect Legend to counter campers, they would also give Mirage a run for his money as the number one trickster in the Apex Games. Although, considering the damage that Echo and co. could cause from their Passive alone, the character might well be overpowered, given the endgame meta of holding down a building like its a fortress.

Clever Apex Legends buff turns Crypto into ultimate defensive teammate Respawn/EAAn Apex Legends player has come up with a pretty clever buff for Crypto’s passive that would let him become a real thorn in the side of enemies. Since being introduced to Apex Legends back in season three, Crypto has become a legend that you might not see all that much on Kings Canyon or World’s Edge. The Surveillance Expert is a solid choice for a team playing things slow and sticking to the edge of the circle, but his abilities aren’t as powerful as say Wraith or Loba. Players have been trying to come up with different ways to make Crypto a viable choice for some time, with every potential buff angling around his drone. The newest idea, though, could be a solution that Respawn might want to consider. The concept was posted by Reddit user Dragotech123, who noted that Crypto’s drone should be able to lock doors and not just open or close them. By being able to lock a set number of doors, in this case, two, Crypto could cause headaches for opposing teams. As Dragotech123 pointed out, the buff would also have benefits for the team utilizing the Crypto. Say you need to get off a quick heal after a fight inside a building, the doors could be locked to give you some time to regroup. Obviously, though, there would be a way to unlock these doors if you were using them to your benefit. The Redditor noted that as soon as Crypto messes with another door or two, the ones that are currently locked would revert to their normal state. Now, while this seems a simple enough buff, other players pointed out that it could really cause havoc if Crypto was able to lock the huge doors that sit at spots like Artillery. Even though it might seem like a pretty useful idea, it’s unlikely that Respawn decides to drop a change any soon, especially seeing as they changed Crypto’s drone to be able to ping banners at the start of season five.

However, when it comes to things like weapons and lore, Titanfall plays a big role in the Apex universe. Guns like the R-99, Flatline, and Charge Rifle – among plenty of others – have all made the switch. Now, though, it appears as if another could be set to join them. Apex Legends leaker Shrugtal noted that some players had noticed a weapon resembling Titanfall’s EPG-1 was being used by a DUMMIE in the battle pass trailer for the Wingman’s ‘Attention To Detail’ skin. The plasma grenade launcher only appears for a split second, and while some fans might suggest that it is actually the Prowler, Shrugtal pointed out that there are clear differences when you actually give it a proper look. The leaker also went on to add that last year, a whole host of Titanfall weapons were added to the Apex files, but they were subsequently removed and never made it into the game. In a similar vein, players noticed that before the Sentinel was added to Apex, it also appeared on the back of a DUMMIE during a reveal for one of Crypto’s finishers. He also added that what players saw in the Wingman video could be a second version of the EPG that is purposed purely for Apex. This would explain also explain the updated Explosive Ammo icon. Titanfall currently plays a big part in Apex with weapons like the R-99, Flatline, Charge Rifle, and others being used. As time has gone on, there have been hopes, as well as rumors, that Apex would be incorporating more Titanfall weapons to its loot pool. The last significant one was the EPG-1 being seen in the Season 5 battle pass trailer, but there’s a new one making headway. During the Lost Treasures Collection Event dev stream, the Respawn team went over the patch notes for the new event, and revealed a mysterious UFO object on Kings Canyon. Though, some players – in particular, reliable leaker Shrugtal – noticed that one of the DUMMIE’s was apparently carrying a VOLT. “I like that Volt skin,” the leaker tweeted with an image of it attached. I was looking for another glimpse of the EPG in the Dev Stream, but I’ll take the Volt 😅 — Shrugtal (@shrugtal) June 23, 2020 Shrugtal that they were actually looking for an update to the possibility of the EPG-1 arriving, but, Titanfall players know that the VOLT isn’t a bad consolation prize anyway. As for how the VOLT would work in Apex – should it arrive, that is – it would have to be an energy ammo based sub-machine gun, just like it was in Titanfall. Though, it probably couldn’t be a hitscan weapon. Now, while the sight of the VOLT might confirm that it is in the game’s files, there have been weapons in the past that have gone unused despite being uncovered by data miners. So, we’ll have to wait and see as to whether or not Respawn decides to shake up their loot pool with the VOLT, or if it goes unused like so many other Titanfall references.

Ever since the very beginning of the Apex games, Pathfinder has been a favorite for players not only for his useful kit and abilities, but his constant upbeat attitude and annoyingly cheery quips. There are a ton of strategies for good old Path floating around out there, but one of the best ones is still one of the simplest that’s been around Apex for probably as long as the friendly robot has been himself. Even though Apex has seen a ton of changes, both to the game and to Legends since release, one thing has remained constant – Pathfinder’s grapple, and players are still using it to bamboozle unsuspecting enemies to this day. As you can see in the clip above, all you have to do is run to low ground when you’re getting chased, and grapple back onto the high ground after your tunnel vision opponents come chasing after you. It’s something Pathfinder mains have been doing since the very start, and it still seems to be working just fine, as a very large percentage of players will keep chasing you, only realizing they fell into a trap after it’s too late. Even if the enemy squad has another Path with them, they’ll only be able to grapple themselves back up so at worse, you’re looking at a 1v1 to stay alive. Taking out the unfortunate players who find themselves stuck on the low ground then basically just becomes a game of shooting fish in a barrel because like Obi-Wan himself, you have the high ground. Apex is still going strong more than a year after release, with players currently gearing up for a whole new wave of content arriving with Season 6 soon. No matter what new legends or bells and whistles get added this time around, it’s worth remembering that sometimes, the simplest strategies are the best.

A game as big and variable as Apex Legends was bound to be plagued by bugs from time to time, but players have grown increasingly frustrated with Respawn as more and more bugs not only affect gameplay, but return in multiple different seasons. That is the case with this particular care package issue, which has previously surfaced on both Kings Canyon and World’s Edge. Unfortunately, it has now made a return in Season 7 and Olympus, despite efforts from Respawn to patch it in the past. The glitch revolves around a care package spawning in a location slightly off the map’s customary boundaries. For example, it might be slightly below, on a couple of the large pipes that help to prop up the Olympus environment. Pursuing the care package, which often contains top-tier loot, results in an instant death, as one Redditor unluckily found out. Joking that they got ‘bamboozled’ by a care package, they hopped down below to take advantage of the loot on offer, only to be killed rapidly when hitting the area of the map the care package had nestled itself in. It doesn’t appear to be an isolated incident either, unfortunately. Another Reddit user shared a YouTube clip entitled ‘It’s a Trap!’ The video shows off an almost identical death, as the allure of top-tier weaponry is enough to provide the player with an instant and immensely frustrating death. Respawn have not yet responded to the issue, but we expect to see small adjustments made to stop the issues from occurring. For the time being, though, avoid going for care packages that look like they’re in dangerous locations. Alongside that, the free-to-play game has already broken an incredible milestone by having over 25 million players within its first two weeks of release – and now it’s player base could be about to boom again. According to a report from the South China Morning Post, a source on the Chinese blogging website, Sina Weibo, claims that Tencent is in talks with EA to take the wildly popular video game to the Chinese market. Western media companies must have a local partner in China to start distribution and Tencent is usually one of the key players in making it possible – for a fee, of course. Despite experiencing explosive success since its release in early-February, Apex Legends continues to face a major issue when it comes to in-game cheating. Despite Respawn Entertainment announcing that thousand of cheaters have gotten banned up to this point, it still continues to be a frustrating problem that many innocent players have to deal with. Seeing as how the developers have not been able to find a more successful solution, some Chinese players have decided to look for a fix themselves, which led them to develop a program that combats cheaters and hackers. Ironically, since third-party software isn’t supposed to be used in Apex Legends, the program itself is technically also a hack, and its algorithm essentially uses cheats to stop cheaters. According to Reddit user ‘SilentRedBoi,’ the image above is taken from the Chinese anti-cheat program, and each of its features offers a different counter to popular hacks that players like to use in-game. Roughly translated, these options are: Autoaim disturb – Speed hack back to normal speed – Wallhacking cheaters only – Convenient reporting system by creating player info file on desktop – While each of those four features are powerful in their own way, perhaps the strongest one is the fourth, which creates a file containing the cheater’s information that can be used to easily report him or her for cheating. It’s been well documented how Apex Legends lacks a convenient in-game system to report cheaters, much like Fortnite Battle Royale, and players instead have to go through a tedious process online. However, Respawn have confirmed that such a system will be implemented soon in-game, so that reporting feature of the anti-hack program may no longer be needed in the near future. While this Chinese anti-cheat program is pretty well though out, and the irony of its existence is pretty humorous, it’s not a sustainable or long-term solution by any means. The onus is definitely on Respawn to clean up Apex Legends as effectively and soon as they can, before the integrity of the game becomes too fractured beyond repair.

Unlike other battle royale games like Fortnite, which has previously implemented real trap features for players to use in the form of items, Apex Legends players have always had to get creative. The deadly Caustic trap of seasons gone by was not especially surprising, as the Toxic Trapper is known for throwing independent variables all over the battlefield to gas out his enemies. However, for a more supportive Legend such as Lifeline – with her Care Package, Combat Revive, and D.O.C Heal Drone – you might not expect this Legend to be one for traps. How to create a trap in Apex Legends with Lifeline Over on TikTok, a clip showing teams fighting on Kings Canyon, the original Apex Games map, has gone viral with nearly 160,000 likes. Phenomenal_gaming was playing alone in Duos after finding an enemy squad, which fired in their direction immediately. With minimal health, the player called in their ultimate ability, the Care Package, right next to a staircase for a nearby building. As the squad came over to loot up their body they realized that the Care Package had actually trapped them into the tight spot – leaving them to die as the circle comes in, or for a team that may pass by. These outside staircases are a feature of many Apex Legends maps, meaning the trick can be performed on World’s Edge, Storm Point, and others. While it might not be ideal for those who are last alive, if you’re one member of a team and others are still alive, this could be a perfect way to make sure you take enemies down with you after being eliminated.

While Crypto has often struggled to find a place within the Apex Legends meta, there’s no denying how useful his Surveillance Drone can be. Not only can it reveal enemy locations and provide vital intel, but it can also safely retrieve allied banners. This makes it a particularly powerful skill that can be used both defensively and aggressively. Being able to bamboozle your enemies has always been incredibly important in Respawn’s battle royale. After all, a well-timed distraction can give you a huge edge over any unsuspecting enemies. However, a new Crypto drone bug has recently been discovered, which is giving players a hilarious way to troll their foes. Apex Legends Crypto drone distraction trick Apex Legends is home to numerous techniques and bugs that players can use to get an advantage over the competition. Whether it’s mastering Pathfinder’s super grapples or utilizing Fuse’s ultimate wallhack trick, there are plenty of hidden mechanics that are constantly being discovered. One of the latest bugs involves Crypto’s Surveillance Drone, which enables players to distract their opponents with holo sprays. However, there are ways to reduce the eye-watering prices, ensuring you can save money while still getting the ultra-rare items. Heirlooms are ultra rare objects that, specific to each character, consistent with their abilities, identity and lore. There are currently nine heirlooms in-game, with all of the base legends now having one, plus Octane. Revenant’s heirloom is available in the Apex Legends Genesis Collection Event. Called the Dead Man’s Curve it is an extendable scythe that, to be frank, looks awesome. However, it will be just as tough to get hold of as past heirlooms, so how do you ensure you get it without breaking the bank? Heirlooms are available in a few different ways – by collecting shards, purchasing 500 packs, or by collecting 24 items in the Collection Event. Once the event is done, you’ll have to rely on packs to get it. However, purchasing 24 packs at 700 Apex Coins each will mean players are required to spend around $160 to guarantee themselves the heirloom. Thankfully, there are cheaper ways. How to save money on heirlooms EA Play savings YouTuber Omega has run the maths and has some top tips for players wanting to guarantee themselves the heirloom. First up, players should purchase EA Play. A $5 subscription to EA, gives players 10% of in-game purchases in all EA titles. As it sounds, this will save you 10% on Apex Packs and bundles. Although it does require you to invest money, you’ll quickly save more than the cost of a subscription. Event bundles Secondly, players should purchase event bundles, rather than individual packs. For the Genesis Collection Event, these are the Loba Petty Thief and Crypto Inconspicuous bundles. These give players skins, but a total of 10 event packs as well. That will leave just 14 to purchase, rather than 24. Crafting metals Finally, players should use any Crafting Metals they have. Depending on how many this is, it will cut the total cost even further. As such, the price will vary depending on how many Crafting Metals players have. We doubt anyone does, but if you’re sitting on 38,400, the heirloom will be yours for free. For most players, though, it will still constitute a significant investment. A lot of the possibilities, even when players have a few thousand Crafting Metals, come out at over $100. Naturally, not everyone will want to invest in the game heavily to ensure they get the heirloom. If that’s you, leave it up to chance and see what Apex Packs bring you. You’re guaranteed some shards after opening 500 packs. Finally, these tips should carry over to future heirlooms. Bundles will likely be available, as will EA Play. They’ll still come at a cost, but significantly cheaper than if you were to purchase 24 event packs outright.

Instead of your typical game of Apex, some were likening the effects to an LTM inspired by the Hunger Games. In a video by Reddit user ‘cough_e,’ a mad scramble for any type of loot was sparked after people were just spawned on the map shortly after the loading screen faded away. After a half-second of hesitation from everyone in the Supercarrier, people quickly realized what was happening and chaos immediately ensued. Cough_e and many others chose to start hammering away at each other with their melee attacks, others elected to pick up any weapon to help them out. Considering the situation, even a sidearm was enough to down a few people. Some players surmised that the game’s server stalled while running the match. So the drop ship was long gone and people were still slowly loading onto Olympus, which caused this as a result. If you ask the average Apex Legends player where they would place Caustic on a list of best characters in the game, chances are they would place him very low, possibly at the bottom. Caustic players are still fighting for a way to remain relevant and a lot of that relies on camping in rooms and blocking players in so they can be gassed out. It’s certainly not an ideal way to be eliminated but that’s what happens in many situations. The gas canisters can stop doors from opening which means a well-placed one could fill a room up with toxins and leave those trapped in there with no escape. However, players are able to smash doors so it’s better if you can manage to block a doorway instead. These aren’t easy plays to pull off but they are very satisfying when they do as players are put into a pretty hopeless predicament. A Reddit post by ‘Beanbag1992’ shows a hilarious situation where three players have no escape. A squad was overlooking the bunker area, a perfect spot for the Caustic deathtrap, and sent in the martyr Pathfinder to lure the enemy team into a room. Once Pathfinder went down that’s when the team sprang into action by throwing the gas trap and blocking the doorway. The enemy squad slowly succumbed to the gas as they were left hopeless and powerless. The iconic Apex Legends toxin master has had a very bumpy ride in the last few months. First, he was whacked with a “devastating” bundle of gas nerfs that stripped away his close-range power, and tanked his play rate. Even worse, he then copped the brunt of secret smoke changes shipped in March’s Chaos Theory update. Caustic has certainly been through the Apex Legends ringer in the last few seasons. Unfortunately, the repetitive nerfs and changes have all but removed him from the battle royale’s Season 9 meta. While his 5.1% win rate was barely affected — a “small positive, Respawn says — his pick rate is now teetering ever closer to 2.6%. It’s a huge dip from his lofty 6.6% presence in early Season 8. Luckily, Respawn has the Toxic Trapper in their sights; they’re already “thinking about what to do with him,” and have some early buffs in the chamber. According to lead designer Daniel Z. Klein, who spoke at length about the Apex Legends metagame in a Reddit thread on May 18, Caustic is certainly on the buff list heading into the next Season 9 update, in a bid to save the trapper. Warning bells started ringing for Respawn soon after the defender’s “devastating” v0.8.1 changes; loud enough that something “really had to be done.” “Caustic’s win/loss ratio barely changed… it went from 5.1% to 5.0%,” the Apex Legends designer explained. “His pick rate, however, dropped a lot. Without a doubt, Wraith has been affected most, with Catalyst’s Piercing Spikes and Barricade effectively breaking Wraith’s Tactical. Catalyst bug completely counters Wraith in Apex Legends Popular Apex Legends YouTuber Skeptation has identified a serious set of issues involving Wraith and Catalyst. For starters, although Wraith is meant to be completely invulnerable during her Tactical ability, Catalyst’s Piercing Spikes still apply a major slow. While it’s not been confirmed by Respawn, most players are assuming this is a bug that will be patched out in the near future. However, for the time being, it’s an interaction that is guaranteed to get a lot of Wraith mains killed and is a secret nerf to her ‘Into the Void’ ability until it is removed from the game. Unfortunately, it’s not just Catalyst’s spikes that are breaking Wraith’s kit, it’s her Barricade Passive as well. While using Wraith’s Tactical, any doors that have been rebuilt using ferrofluid are invisible to the Interdimensional Skirmisher. Despite not appearing on screen, the structure will still block you from going through the doorway, leaving Wraith players confused and causing a lot of frustration. When attempting to escape a dangerous situation, the last thing you need is an invisible door blocking your way. Both of these interactions are extremely frustrating to encounter and will lead to a lot of unfair deaths during intense skirmishes. For the time being, Catalyst has a huge advantage over Wraith players, so if you’re a fan of the Interdimensional Skirmisher, watch out for these bugs. Hopefully, Respawn can patch these out as soon as possible or there’s guaranteed to be backlash from the community.

Catalyst has one of the unique kits in Apex Legends that’s built for controlling the pace of skirmishes and taking gunfights on her terms. With the ability to lockdown buildings with her Passive and a giant wall that can split up an enemy squad, her tactical playstyle is extremely rewarding if you’re willing to put in the practice. Although her popularity was trending downwards all the way through Season 15, her pick rate has spiked in Revelry. This is not only because of the class rework but also because the community has discovered an OP combo involving her and Seer’s Ultimate. Seer & Catalyst combo is unbelievably OP in Apex Legends After peaking in popularity with a 12.1% pick rate at the start of Season 15, Catalyst slowly trended downward before hitting an all-time low of 1.7% just after Revelry went live. However, over the last few weeks, the Defensive Conjurer’s use has increased by 23%, taking her up to an overall pick rate of 2.3%. While this boost in pick rate could be attributed to her new Controller Passive that allows her to scan beacons for the next ring, it’s more likely a result of the new OP Seer & Catalyst combo that’s taken over Ranked. It involves placing down a Catalyst wall and Seer Ultimate at the same time, granting your allies wall hacks, and giving your foes no chance to fight back. There’s no doubt this mechanic will be patched in the near future, so it’ll be interesting to see whether Catalyst’s pick rate continues going up or slumps back down. Either way, with more pros playing her than ever before, it’s highly likely Catalyst will make an appearance in the ALGS as her ability to disrupt the flow of skirmishes is unmatched.

Catalyst mains discover cheeky voice line combo in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans have already started trolling other players with an inappropriate voice line combo for the new Defense Legend Catalyst. Apex Legends Season 15 is here and with it came a brand new map, Broken Moon, and the new Defense Legend Catalyst. With any new Legend, players quickly try to find the best cosmetics for them, including banners, skins, and voice lines. However, some players have already found some voice lines that can be combined to make Catalyst say some pretty inappropriate things. Apex Legends players create inappropriate voice lines A post on the Apex Legends subreddit gained traction after one player found that combining two of Catalyst’s voice lines ended up in a pretty inappropriate combination. The attached video showed the Catalyst player spamming the two voice lines while their squad dropped on the new Broken Moon map. Players interested in hearing the unseemly voice line can watch the video themselves, but doing so with headphones on is probably for the best. The post quickly gained traction on the game’s subreddit, as this is usually a fairly popular meme among the community whenever a new Season — and therefore a new Legend — gets released. Fans quickly filled the replies with their own inappropriate voice line combos, as one player mentioned Mad Maggie’s “I’m gonna make this world bleed,” line and her “Come on, you eggs. You wanna live forever” line achieved a similar effect. Additionally, another player mentioned that some of Vantage’s lines could be twisted suggestively without the need to combine them together at all. When asked how players even find these voice line combos in the first place, a handful of players actually admitted to taking time to seek out suspicious lines for this exact purpose. “Ahh yeah I found the grinding one about 10 secs after launch. It’s a hobby of mine to find the most inappropriate ones,” said user twonky-two, while another user commented, “I spend at least an hour at the start of every season finding the perfect quips to make my buddies laugh.” Of course, not every player finds this practice funny, as according to user Deceptiveideas, “a vast majority of the player base gets rightfully annoyed when 12-year-olds think it’s hilarious spamming voice lines to make them sexual.” Whether or not Respawn removes or alters this line remains to be seen. While all of these additions are exciting, it’s the arrival of Catalyst that’s getting most of the attention from players, with one aspect of her kit being particularly interesting. We’re of course talking about her Dark Veil Ultimate which will be the first-ever direct counter to scan abilities in Apex Legends. The community has been calling on Respawn for an answer to Recon Legends for a long time, and it appears her wall of ferrofluid may be the perfect solution. Catalyst’s Dark Veil counters Recon Legends in Apex Catalyst’s Dark Veil Ultimate allows her to raise a permeable wall of ferrofluid that blocks vision and partially blinds any enemies that walk through it. While this would strong on its own, it also has another special feature that truly takes this ability to the next level. Dark Veil also blocks any scan abilities, meaning Bloodhound’s Tactical, Seer’s Ultimate, and Heartbeat Sensor are useless when used in the face of Catalyst’s wall. This will allow the Defensive Conjuruer to pull off outplays without the risk of being spotted or tracked down immediately, making her the perfect pick for those who hate the recon meta. It’ll be interesting to see how much of an impact Catalyst’s Ultimate has on Seer and Bloodhound’s place in the meta. As the ability only covers a small amount of space, it may not be enough to thwart the power of their scan abilities. However, after so much backlash from the community about the abundance of wallhacks and reveal abilities in Apex, Respawn has listened to the feedback with Dark Veil, we’ll just have to see if it can hold its own in the Outlands.

Although Respawn’s impressive cinematics, trailers, and teasers never fail to draw the attention of Apex players, it’s sometimes community creations that steal the show. This was certainly the case when it came to Cartoon Legends, an animation produced by Reddit user and YouTuber elpinko that pits iconic cartoon characters against each other in an Apex Legends battle royale match. Releasing back on June 24, 2021, the amazing animation quickly went viral and became the most upvoted post ever on the game’s subreddit. Episode 2 of the animation was another massive success and elpinko has finally released the long-awaited third installment, and it’s safe to say they’ve knocked it out of the park. Cartoon Legends is back and better than ever With the first Cartoon Legends taking place on Olympus and episode two being set on Storm Point, it only made sense for elpinko to take it back to Kings Canyon for the third installment. Iconic characters from South Park, Family Guy, Rick n Morty, Futurama, Simpsons, Arcane, and many more once again dive down into the Outlands in hopes of securing the Apex victory. Somehow, elpinko manages to seamlessly add scenes from countless cartoons into Apex environments and sync them perfectly. Not only that, the extra details including the cartoon’s choice of weapon in the bottom right and their squad icons on the left all contribute to how impressive this animation is. Although elpinko only seems to release the Cartoon Legends series once every six months, it’s quickly becoming something the community is constantly looking forward to. As the animation is so polished and flows perfectly, it’s easy to see why it takes them so long to put it all together. Fingers crossed episode four arrives in the near future and with new cartoons appearing in every installment so far, it’ll be interesting to see who makes an appearance next.

One of the questions most often asked is whether Respawn’s title has a Solos mode. Here’s all there is to know. Since Apex launched, the game has been primarily focused around Trios as its default mode. We have seen Solos and Duos drop in-game as limited-time-modes, with the latter becoming a permanent fixture in the battle royale. However, the same permanence wasn’t handed to the former, despite player clamor for a mode that allows them to play BR independently. Way back in January 2021, and not for the first time, Respawn explained that their game was designed around Legend abilities being used in conjunction. In other words, team-play remains integral to Apex. They again referred players to an April 2020 blog post which read: “When we introduced Solos as a limited-time mode last year we saw it actually negatively impacted the game, especially when it came to new player retention. We’ve also purposely designed Legends and their abilities to compliment team-play and squad composition, but when played Solo some Legend abilities become useless.” Apex Legends ‘no fill’ option In the Chaos Theory update, which dropped in March 2022, Respawn finally added a ‘no fill’ option for matchmaking. As it sounds, this option means players can drop in on their own, opting to play without teammates. However, they can only do so in Duos or Trios matches, meaning they’ll generally be outnumbered and outgunned by enemies. It therefore might not be suitable for lesser-skilled players, who will be wiped out rapidly by enemies with an inherent advantage. Furthermore, matches can only have six “no fill” players in total. Respawn explained that this was done in order to avoid disrupting the “pacing of the game.” Will Apex Legends get a solo mode for PC and console? Right now, we don’t know – but it doesn’t seem likely. Despite its addition in the mobile version of the game, there don’t seem to be any plans to drop Solos permanently in the main version of Apex Legends. It seems even less likely given the sunsetting of Apex Legends Mobile, meaning there will be no legitimate ways to play solo against other solo players. Well, an update from Valve on January 21 confirmed that the Steam Deck will support titles that use EAC and put to bed any worries about competitive FPS titles not working at release. Despite this, it was only on February 25 when players received their devices that it was confirmed that Apex Legends is compatible and available to play on the Steam Deck. C4 Satchel Charge coming to Apex Legends according to leaks Another data mined leak for Apex Legends has surfaced, this time potentially revealing the addition of an explosive device from Titanfall 2, making its way into the battle royale game. Apex Legends’ arsenal has been very much inspired by weapons from Titanfall 2, with many of the guns practically identical remakes, albeit with slightly different names. As more weapons are added, it makes sense for the team at Respawn to continue this theme of borrowing from Titanfall 2, and the Satchel Charge looks like it will be a possible addition. In Titanfall 2, the Satchel Charge would stick to surfaces and then could be detonated manually, causing a huge explosion. Whether it will operate exactly like this in Apex Legends is unknown, for now all we have are some basic image files, revealed by data miner @RealApexLeaks. Similar leaked images of the Satchel Charge were first posted by GamingINTEL. It must be noted that data mined game files don’t always mean that these items will make it into the game, as Respawn will often test out new features in development and then decide against them later. However, with only three throwables currently available in Apex Legends (grenade, arc star, thermite), it does seem plausible that they would want to add in some new ones at some point. Perhaps the Satchel Charge will release alongside the start of Season 1 and the Battle Pass, but the release date for this still remains a mystery.

Bugged Apex Legends vantage point is near impossible to counter against The Apex Legends map has a ton of obstacles for players to avoid, such as geysers, lava, a moving train and even glitched hiding spots that can conceal players in walls. Respawn Entertainment have worked toward getting the battle royale ready for not only the content drop of Season 4 soon but also the upcoming inaugural running of the new Apex Legends Global Series. One of those fixes might have to come in the form of sturdier walls since some players have found some nooks and crannies that the devs might not have intended for them to get behind. Reddit user ‘DesertGraffitiMaker’ demonstrated on of these spots in his post showing that using even a Legend like Lifeline, players can reach these bugged viewpoints to get the drop on any of their opponents in the Apex Games. Northwest of The Geyser, just outside of the mountain-side facility, players can find metal scaffolding. Climbing just atop the first break where there is a ledge to stand on, players can maneuver to just to the right of it. Even though there’s a metal tube and rock behind that, there actually able to slightly wedge themselves into the metal tube and climb even higher. It’s here where DesertGraffitiMaker shows the glitched vantage point which lets players easily scout the area below and beyond without being seen. Once the player made their way up to the spot, all they had to do was crouch behind the wall to hide themselves if another squad came passing through. The user even showed how simple it was to pop back up and take shots while poking through the bugged textures. Spots like these were common on the old Kings Canyon map, as players found numerous rocks and other boulders to phase through. Many of those spots also offered protection against enemy gunfire, but it’s unknown if this new one goes that far. Quite a few players will remember the pain it was to deal with players that would glitch themselves in those spots on the old map, giving this new one the potential to cause real headaches.

Bugged Apex Legends Olympus location makes players invincible Respawn/EAApex Legends players have uncovered a bugged spot on Olympus where, should you use it, you’ll be invulnerable to enemy attacks. However, it is pretty situational. Since the launch of Apex Legends back in February of 2019, Respawn Entertainment have fiddled with the game’s maps – creating new maps altogether, as well as making changes to the original Kings Canyon. As these maps have been updated, players have found unique spots to counter enemy attacks. Some are a bit of legitimate than others, seeing as you can use an ability to reach them. Though, there have been plenty of bugged spots that pretty much give players free wins. Similar spots can be found on Olympus – the map added with the start of Season 7 – but there’s also a pretty unusual one that will make you invulnerable to enemy attacks, be they melee or bullets. Reddit user Mayor-of-Apex flagged the spot after their friend managed to crawl their way into it during a recent game. It’s situated at Estates in the middle of the map, and it’s such an unusual spot because it’s actually behind a plant. As the Redditor’s pal shows, if you crawl behind the potted plant, enemies can’t attack you – as much as they might try to. As the Redditor shows, enemies simply got tired of trying to eliminate their pal, and simply moved on to doing something else – leaving them to lay in a bizarre new spot. As for why this spot is helping players, it’s probably just a clipping error from the side of the devs after they introduced it. It’s an easy fix, if they choose to address it. In terms of using it to your advantage in-game, it’s ultra situational. You’d have to be at Estates, of course, and hope enemies give up on trying to finish you off. You might be able to pop off a self-revive with a gold shield, but standing up might blow your cover. We’ll have to wait and see as to whether or not Respawn will address it.

Bugged Apex Legends location is killing players instantly Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have discovered that a location on one of the game’s many Supply Ships appears to be instantly killing players for no apparent reason. When it released back in February, Apex Legends had a relatively issue-free launch, but since then bugs and glitches have continued to stack up, with Respawn Entertainment struggling to address some problems – with many featuring in the game for months. Now, it appears that certain spots on the Supply Ships, which float above Kings Canyon, are immediately killing players who enter them. What is happening on Apex Legends Supply Ships? As shown in a clip posted on Reddit by /u/c_thunderhorse, some of the hatches that give players an opportunity to drop down from the Supply Ship to the ground, or visit the lower levels of the ship are causing players to die instantly. What’s frustrating about this issue is that there is no warning about the death, and seemingly no reason to explain why they have been eliminated. The location also doesn’t knock players down so they can be picked back up, but actually kills them entirely, forcing them to hope that a teammate can acquire their banner and bring them back. This doesn’t appear to happen every time a player a tries to drop down a hatch, but is still a difficult and aggravating development – especially considering how useful these hatches can be when attempting to escape enemies on the ship. Apex Legends players will be hoping that this issue is fixed in the next update for the popular battle royale game, as dying due to a bug that you cannot control is incredibly annoying. Respawn Entertainment have yet to address the issue, but we’ll be sure to update this post with any new information provided by the developers. In the meantime, it’s probably a good idea to avoid using the hatches on Supply Ships, even if it’s just to make sure you don’t become the next victim of this unfortunate glitch.

New Apex Legends out-of-bounds update frustrates players fed up with bugged walls Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are having some matches cut short by a bizarre interaction between the new out-of-bounds update and bugged walls across the maps that’s starting to cause headaches. Respawn recently pushed out a quality of life change in Apex Legends aimed to mitigate campers from abusing rat spots that would effectively let them hide out for the bulk of the game. As it turns out, the change also made some ledges a nightmare to navigate off of. There are some parts across Apex maps that are ‘out-of-bounds’ near cliffs and ledges while also being a bit awkward to escape from – which is even more apparent given the recent changes. One player shared their frustrations on Reddit, which soon led to a chorus of replies. They were outside of the circle and looking to take a Gravity Cannon back into the zone. Unfortunately for them, they had a run-in with a cliffside that had invisible barriers keeping them from leaving. When out of the game’s playable area Legend abilities are disabled as well as passive abilities like Valkyrie’s Jet Packs. In this situation, the player was caught in a bad spot that got even worse after invisible barriers made it impossible to find a way off the ledge. Though they eventually found an escape, their match soon ended since the timer to get back into the field expired. The clip added to the fire of people who don’t like the recent change since it was introduced to Apex. “This is the exact and entire reason why I hate this f**king change,” one user said. Another user added: “I died in nearly the exact same spot two days ago because I got stuck in a sliding animation and couldn’t fly either as Valk. This cliffside is cursed.” Usually Respawn are quick to patch out these types of bugs so hopefully more Apex Legends players won’t get caught in the glitch made worse by the out of bounds change.

Respawn investigating brutal Apex Legends bug making Gibraltar weaker to explosives Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment is looking into a bizarre Apex Legends bug that’s making Gibraltar extremely vulnerable to any form of explosive damage. As one of the classic Legends, Gibraltar has been part of EA’s popular battle royale for more than two years now. Yet even this staple character isn’t safe from devastating new bugs in Apex Legends. While some glitches make abilities stronger, and in some cases, outright broken, others impact the very fundamentals of the game. Such is the case with the latest critical issue holding back Gibraltar mains around the world. Despite being a tanky Legend with his own unique defenses, Gibraltar just got a whole lot weaker — any form of explosive Apex Legends damage is now almost lethal for Gibraltar, and strangely enough Gibraltar alone. Respawn are investigating reports of Gibraltar taking more damage than he should. The bug seems to be related to explosives (see example from @PVPX_ 👇)pic.twitter.com/EjqaU47HJR — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) June 3, 2021 While experimenting in a June 2 broadcast, Apex streamer Jamison ‘PVPX’ Moore discovered the issue. Something as simple as an Arc Star is now dealing upwards of 185 damage to the bugged character. Even Gibraltar’s very own Ultimate is now absolutely brutal. Rather than dealing the standard 40 damage per hit with the Defensive Bombardment, this explosive ordinance now hits for more than 100 damage with each blow. This extreme damage boost seems to apply for just about every explosive in the game when aimed at Gibraltar. There’s no telling exactly how this came into effect, but rest assured, devs are already on top of it. Filed under the ‘investigation’ tab in the official Apex bug tracker, Respawn is well aware of this new issue. The official Trello listing reads: “Looking into reports of Gibraltar taking more than intended damage.” While it’s still under investigation, there’s obviously no indication of how long it might be around for. This bug could be squashed in a matter of hours or it could be around for a long while yet. Regardless, if you happen to be a Gibby main, you better be cautious of every explosive moving forward in Apex. If you’re on the receiving end of even just one Arc Star, it would completely ruin your next drop.

Bronze Apex Legends player shows how hilarious low-ranked games can be Low-ranked matches in Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends can provide some quality humor as this ridiculous Bronze victory exemplified. On the complete opposite end of the spectrum from the flashy plays and stylish maneuvers of professional players, Bronze ranked Apex Legends games can be just as enjoyable to watch thanks to some hilarious gameplay. While obviously the lowest of tiers in ranked competition, that didn’t stop one crafty Bronze player from accidentally demonstrating an ingenious way of finding a last-second victory. Only two squads remained in a November 20 post from Reddit user ‘Manascream.’ As the map continued to shrink around him and his teammates, they desperately searched for the final remaining enemies. Stumbling upon two enemies out in the open, the player connected quite a few shots before being forced to retreat and heal up indoors. It was here in a moment of sheer panic that he deployed Octane’s Launch Pad in the doorway in hopes of momentarily separating from combat. Little did he know that he just set off an extremely amusing chain of events. “I f*cked up,” the player hilariously muttered upon realizing that he had inadvertently trapped himself between the enemy team and the deathly circle that had since cut the room in half. To his surprise however, one by one the opposition flooded into the room and dramatically launched themselves into the ceiling before crashing back down outside the zone. Clearly perplexed and unable to make their way back to safety, the player quickly mowed down two enemies, uncontrollably laughing all the while. The third and final opponent was able to knock him down after all, but proving to be the cherry on top of such an unbelievable showcase, that same enemy ran back into the Launch Pad and met a similar fate to his teammates. No shortage of absolutely hilarious moments in low-ranked competition of late, this Apex Legends victory comes just days after one of the most extraordinary highlights in Silver ranked CSGO history.

“Broken” Rampart abilities in Apex Legends are making her useless Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have attributed Rampart’s low pick rate in the battle royale to a glitch that once again seems to make her Amped Cover ability basically unusable. Rampart’s whole gimmick is her ability to fortify and hold down an area of the map with her Amped Cover and Turret abilities. The walls not only block incoming damage, but also amplifies outgoing shots. It’s a crucial part of her kit, but a game-breaking glitch is making it practically impossible for players to use during a match, as the clip below shows. The ability can be activated as normal, but try as you might, apparently the cover just will not deploy no matter how many times you attempt to set it down. While the clip only shows World’s Edge, it does also pop up on Olympus as well according to OP ‘dadnothere’, which could contribute to her still being one of the least-picked legends, even after a buff to start off Season 7. The current issues with the wall could stem from a Season 6 bug that caused it to randomly explode when placed in certain spots. Devs said in an update they specifically fixed the issue, but as one Redditor suggested, that “fix” may have led to the glitch we see today. “Her tactical is completely broken since the ‘fixed issue where a wall can be placed on ledges’ patch,” Mirage_Main added in the comments. “Walls constantly clip into the ground and place at weird angles. Sometimes if it’s too far into the ground, it’ll place and get destroyed immediately.” Other users joked that it wouldn’t be long before Rampart became the next Apex Legends meme character, if she isn’t there already due to all of the updates she’s seen so far. Updates that don’t seem to have fixed too much of anything. To be fair, Amped Cover does operate a bit differently than most other abilities in the game and probably presents a unique challenge for devs to get just right. Still, until it does get fixed, we wouldn’t rely on the defensive ability as the main part of your game plan in the arena.

Broken Newcastle 200m movement trick discovered in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends’ newest character, Newcastle, is taking players by surprise with a “broken” new trick that lets the Mobile Guardian instantly jump across the map. Respawn Entertainment dropped its 21st Legend at the start of Season 13 and with it a brand-new way to play support in the Apex Games. The new addition has already been giving teams different ways to mix up their defense while also offering a few unexpected offensive tactics. But a bizarre interaction with Newcastle’s ultimate ability and teammate banners is giving players a completely new way to traverse the Apex landscape with almost no repercussions. The bug lets the Legend increase his Castle Wall mobility by hundreds of meters and gives players a really potent way to bamboozle opponents in the game. YouTuber ‘RossTheeSquirrel’ showed how players can get the most out of Newcastle’s hop from his ultimate simply by aiming at a teammate’s deathbox. “You can lunge and essentially fly nearly 200 meters to land on a teammate’s box,” he said. “The crazy thing is there does not seem to be a height barrier to this.” Read more: Who is Fade in Apex Legends Mobile? – By design, Newcastle can only go up to 35 meters with his ult and 75 meters if he’s landing on a friendly death box. This glitch completely ignores that limitation by increasing the range by nearly double of what’s intended. “That’s just a bit broken,” one player said, reacting to the clip. Others were shocked to see the bug that essentially gives Newcastle the best rotation move that rivals Valkyrie’s ultimate. As Respawn addresses the biggest issues in Apex Legends, they’re sure to take a look at all the weird quirks Newcastle brought along with him after his debut. Until then, Apex Legends players shouldn’t be surprised if they randomly find the Mobile Defender zipping across the air in their matches as we wait for a meaningful fix to the bug.

Broken map spot on Apex Legends costs player the match in worst possible way Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player found a broken map spot on Olympus that cost them the match in the worst possible way, and it’s absolutely hilarious to watch. Apex Legends players aren’t exactly strangers to puzzling bugs, glitches, and exploits that have popped up since the game’s launch in February, 2019. Some of the latest bugs found in the popular battle royale include an unusual glitch that allows players to heal while reviving teammates or inside of a portal, as well as the infamous infinite Octane stim glitch returning in once again in Season 12. Now, one player has found a broken spot on Olympus that cost them the game in the most frustrating way possible. In a March 9 Reddit post, one player shared a hilarious clip that ended with the player dying in the most infuriating yet hilarious way. After multiple attempts at using Pathfinder’s zipline to escape from an attacking squad, the player was finally able to use the ultimate. However, after taking the zipline to the other side of the map the player was essentially stuck, and unable to jump over the barrier in front of them. Ultimately, not being able to jump over the ledge lead to the player’s death by the squad behind. While this death is a little embarrassing, other players in the thread were quick to point out it’s not exactly the most frustrating way to die in Apex Legends: “Second worst death to mid-fight stutter,” said one. As noted by some, fortunately, the player’s loot won’t be obtainable by the enemy team after it fell off the map: “At least they won’t get your stuff.” For now, it’s worthwhile staying away from that part of the map. However, with the Reddit post getting quite a bit of attention, it’s likely the bug will be flagged to Respawn and we can only hope it’s patched in a future update.

Broken hit-reg is causing major issues again in Apex Legends Season 13 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are experiencing broken hit-reg once again and it seems to have been triggered by the Season 13 update. It’s safe to say gunplay is one of the most important aspects of any battle royale, and that’s certainly the case in Apex Legends, despite each of the characters having an array of unique abilities. As a result, it’s absolutely essential that hit registration is faultless as any problems related to it have a massive impact on players’ gameplay experience. Well, unfortunately, hit-reg problems have once again resurfaced following the release of Season 13, causing bullets to pass through enemy models without dealing damage. Although this has quickly stirred up a lot of frustration in the community, a dev has responded to the issue. Hit-reg issues are back in Apex Legends Season 13 Shortly after Saviors arrived in Apex Legends on May 10, players started experiencing hit-reg problems in their matches, effectively resulting in some of their bullets dealing no damage. While it can be easy to miss if you’re not paying attention, a lot of streamers captured and noticed the issue while playing Ranked. Since Catalyst’s arrival in the Outlands for Apex Legends Season 15, the community has been slowly but surely mastering her kit and figuring out which characters best synergize with her in a squad. While popular Legends like Octane, Wraith, and Pathfinder are always solid options, it’s actually Rampart who can make the most of Catalyst’s ferrofluid. Players have discovered that the Amped Modder can pair her minigun Ultimate with the Defensive Conjurer’s Passive to set up a deadly combo. If placed correctly, it’s possible to create an invincible turret where the user is completely unkillable to enemy gunfire. How to setup Catalyst & Rampart unkillable turret combo As showcased by popular Apex Legends YouTuber Bobz, Catalyst and Rampart can come together to create a deadly combo in the Outlands. The technique involves placing Rampart’s Ultimate Sheila in the center of a broken doorway. Catalyst then needs to create a new door made of ferrofluid on top of it using her Barricase Passive. This effectively creates a one-way invincible turret as anyone using the Ultimate can shoot enemies through the ferrofluid, but opponents cannot fire back. While Sheila can obviously not be moved, it’s a powerful trick if you’re looking to hold down a building, as it gives enemies no chance of retaliating if they approach the doorway. If you’re Catalyst or Rampart main, this is a must-know technique that’s well worth taking advantage of, as it’s hard to know whether it’ll be patched out in the near future. Keep in mind, the only way to counter this combo is to use throwables to instantly destroy the ferrofluid, exposing the player operating the turret.

Broken Apex Legends Wraith exploit completely removes her tactical cooldown Respawn EntertainmentWraith is one of the strongest Legends in Apex Legends, but a new exploit is making the Interdimensional Skirmisher even more potent. While the Apex Legends meta may shift with every new update, one character has remained a popular pick. With her life-saving tactical ability, small hitbox, and game-changing ultimate, Wraith is capable of turning the odds of even the most one-sided fights in her favor. This dimension traveling character still has a whopping 13% pick rate in Season 9, which places her in the top three. While she may narrowly miss out on claiming the top spot away from Octane, there’s no denying just how impactful Wraith is in the current meta. However, one Apex Legends player has discovered a game-breaking bug that makes this shadowy assassin an even greater threat in the BR title. Part of what makes Wraith such a menace to deal with is her ability to blink in and out of combat. Resetting fights and repositioning are pivotal in any Apex Legends game, particularly if you wish to avoid untimely deaths. Being able to quickly phase out of combat and retreat to the safety of the Void is all part of Wraith’s kit. Not only does it allow her to bait her opponents into unwinnable situations, but it also enables her to creep into positions where she can swiftly execute her foes. While Into the Void has received several tweaks over the course of the game, Wraith’s tactical remains one of the most potent abilities. Like most tacticals in Apex Legends, Wraith’s has a fairly significant cooldown. Players have to wait 25 seconds before they can use Into the Void once again. While this may not sound like an overly long amount of time, it can still lead to some rather frustrating situations. However, it appears one player has discovered another exploit that enables Wraith to completely remove her tactical cooldown. EztheHuman showcased the exploit over on the official Apex Legends subreddit, which demonstrated how Wraith’s cooldown could be reset by timing a wall bounce correctly during her Into the Void ability. The video shows the player performing the wall bounce just before Wraith phases back into the real world, which instantly reset the ability’s cooldown. This exploit does seem rather tricky to pull off, but it could negatively impact the game and make Wraith even more tricky to deal with. Hopefully Respawn will fix this before it becomes an even bigger issue.

Broken Apex Legends revive bug is back again Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer D3TQkpdy]An old bug that used to prevent Apex Legends players from being able to revive their teammates seems to have returned in Season 5, making for some seriously infuriating games. There have been numerous instances of bugs with reviving teammates, including a major issue with Mirage’s clones instantly reviving enemies, but this one is bound to cause some major rifts between teammates. As it was in Season 2 — prior to being patched — sometimes, players are simply unable to revive their teammate, with the command prompt not popping up. Though it has been around a year since the bug was first found in the game, players were relatively unaffected in recent months as Respawn seemingly found a fix but somehow, someway, the bug has found its way back into the game. As you can see in the clip provided below, no matter how hard you try, when the bug hits you simply cannot pick up your teammate no matter how hard you try. It’s unclear what causes the bug, seeming to occur completely at random, but it essentially means you have to leave your teammate for dead and instead get their tag to a respawn beacon before it’s too late — which could be the difference between winning or losing. The clip, from Reddit user RhydonHerSlowbro, depicts a downed Bloodhound with absolutely no prompt showing up, and in this case it did cost them the match as Rhydon was torn between continuing the attempt to pick up their teammate and trying to fend off nearby enemies. One user responded to Rhydon’s post saying that when it had impacted them in Season 2, neither they nor their teammate were able to revive the downed player, which may suggest it is an issue on the side of the downed player, and not those trying to revive them. As with Rhydon’s predicament, Ciralak simply says that “we had to wait until the poor dude bled out” which — especially if you’re playing with a random duo or trio — can be seriously aggravating for everyone involved. Regardless of how it’s caused, Respawn will be desperate to put this bug to bed once and for all, so expect a fix or comment from the developer before long.

Matchmaking settings and changes made by the developers has long been a controversial part of the game. Respawn Entertainment has tried its best like any other developer to balance the gameplay over the years by trying to keep the different competitive parts of the game a fair and fun experience for everyone. With the launch of the new season, the Apex community has once again been debating the balancing issues regarding weapons, legends, abilities, and more. Pro ImperialHal has even found himself going back and forth with fellow competitor Snip3down following the release of Season 18 over survey beacon changes impacting the competitive scene in particular for the upcoming 2023 ALGS Championship. A Reddit user has since posted in the Apex Legends subreddit stating: “You finally broke me”, he said, before going on to announce that he has uninstalled the game. Why are Apex Legends vets criticizing the game? The self-proclaimed over-50-year-old dad has blamed the developers after experiencing “awful games” due to his matchmaking experience. Solo queueing has been historically considered rough in the FPS world and, for this dad, the changes have only appeared to make it worse. He stated: “It’s an issue of enjoyment”, going on to highlight his KD is around 0.7 for Season 18 instead of a 0.9 to 1 KD for the previous Season 17. With him not being able to gain as many kills as he would like, he has found himself unable to enjoy the game due to all the matchmaking changes impacting this season, which is an opinion supported by many. One user has said: “I feel like this, been playing since season 2. It feels like everyone is cheating.” As many have alluded to that they are more commonly being put against much higher skilled players than in previous seasons. Interestingly, a large amount of players have pointed towards cheaters as the reason with a user in particular blaming updates to the Cronus which has been typically used by cheaters to get an unfair advantage. Broken Apex Legends exploit makes some Crypto skins unkillable Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment have been urged to fix a terrible Apex Legends glitch that is being exploited by Crypto mains, where some of his skins cannot be killed. Crypto was handed a buff in the Season 12 update, which was rolled out on February 8, though there was nothing noted in the patch notes about powers of invincibility – because it’s not supposed to happen. With that said, players are reporting serious problems with the Surveillance Expert. Apex Legends Crypto skin makes some skins invincible On March 18, a clip surged up the Apex Legends subreddit showing a situation whereby Crypto cannot be shot at. User Hunkle1 posted: “Who knew Crypto was so broken?” Alongside the message was a short clip, on Olympus, where a random enemy Crypto was standing in the corner, manually controlling a Drone EMP. As the Wraith approached the player, it looked as if an easy kill would be claimed – firing repeatedly at him with a Rampage LMG. But, even the headshot bullets didn’t register at all, signaling a problem. Moments later, Crypto sprung into life and knocked them down. For a moment, the hacking Legend seemed to have sunken inside the nearby wall, before reappearing to deal damage in an almost invincible manner. Clearly, this was an unfair gunfight and showed the enemy exploiting a glitch. How it works One player in the comments was all too familiar with the problem. Speaking from experience, user MirkwoodRS said: “This is intentional bug abuse. There is almost no chance that this bug happens on accident, so the person doing this is most likely using it on purpose to gain an advantage.” To avoid encouraging more players to exploit the bug, they were vague in their explanation. “In order to do this, one of the masked Crypto skins (like the one in the video) must be equipped. The Crypto that is attempting to use the bug must time something as death protection from a Revenant totem is running out,” they added. “It basically just bugs a lot of Crypto’s animations and makes him very difficult to hit so he’ll look like he’s in the floor, sliding around, t-posing, etc…” At the time of writing, the glitch has not been flagged by Respawn Entertainment as a glitch to be fixed imminently – according to their Apex Legends Trello board. However, members of the community will be crossing their fingers for a resolution shortly.

Brilliant ‘escape artist’ character designed for Apex Legends With Season 4 of Apex Legends just around the corner, a new character or ‘legend’ is expected to launch on Feburary 4. Leaks already indicate who it will be, but fans are coming up with their own ideas, such as this ‘Escape Artist’ legend called Rogue. It’s expected that the new legend will be either Rosie (also known as Loba) or Revenant. Or, possibly both, if Respawn mix up their usual routine of one new legend per season, and give us two. Both of these legends are the furthest along in development, at least based on leaked game files. There’s also the fact Revenant previously appeared in the game as host of the Shadowfall LTM. While both these characters sound like they will be great additions to the current lineup (you can read about their leaked abilities and backstory here), fans are coming up with their own ideas too. Described by the creator, u/designty, as an ‘escape artist’, Rogue has three very unique abilities, that would allow him to get out of any tricky situations with ease. Rogue’s abilities (concept) Passive: Do-or-die – Move faster while healing or taking Ring damage, and can use Ziplines, Tactical and Ultimate while downed. – Tactical: Escape Hatch – Can create a personal temporary doorway allowing you to phase through things such as walls, floors or ceilings. (Compatible surfaces indicated on cursor) – Ultimate: Exit Strategy – Deploy a 4-sided particle shield that protects you as you move. Big enough to provide cover for teammates. (Weapons are stowed during use) – These abilities would be unique to Rogue, although there’s clearly some inspiration from other Legends. Wraith’s ‘Dimensional Rift’ Ultimate, and Gibraltar’s ‘Dome of Protection’ tactical, are similar. It’s unclear if enemies would also be able to use the escape hatches, which could be one possible downside. Enemies can use Wraith’s portal, for example, meaning you can sometimes invite trouble in along with you. A lot of effort clearly went into this mock-up character though, who is complete with a Titanfall pilot-looking outfit, which players are also keen to see make more of an appearance. It’s unlikely that Respawn use this concept, but they’ve been known to admire creative fans and their ideas in the past. So, it’s possible they file this under the ‘good ideas’ folder at the studio.

Respawn have made a few changes to the way shields work in different updates, adopting the Evo Shield idea as a full-time thing, so the more damage you do, the better shield you have. Getting a better shield helps a ton, but sometimes when looting, you don’t really have the time to check if you should make the swap and if the shield you’re eyeing up is damaged. So, some players have got an idea to fix that. Currently, when you want to swap shields, you can cursor over the shield and get a number comparison between the new one and your current one. It is easy to read and make a call, but only if you have a fair bit of time. With Redditor AI-JVD’s idea, they suggest that Respawn could add an icon for broken shields, so you know you’re not getting a fully charged shield. The idea is quite brilliant, but it does fall slightly short of telling you just how damaged the shield would be. You’d know it needs recharging, but not by how much. So, another player, husky0168, took that idea and ran a little further, suggesting adding the bars from the hud to show just how damaged the shield would be.

Brilliant Apex Legends map rotation idea would give everyone what they want Respawn/EAAn Apex Legends player has come up with a clever idea to address the game’s map rotation issues, giving more choice to the players while still constantly changing maps. When Apex Legends first launched over two years ago, it came with one map – Kings Canyon. Since then, Respawn Entertainment have expanded the battle royale to have three maps, adding World’s Edge and Olympus along the way. These maps are all popular in their own right, but they are cycled on a regular basis through map rotation, which has caused plenty of headaches for players as they might miss out on the chance to play their favorite map at times. There have been plenty of calls for Respawn to either give players the option to pick which map they want to search for, and while Respawn hasn’t done that, one player might have the perfect solution. The idea comes from Apex Legends content creator Calamiti who suggested that Respawn could make it possible for duos and trios to be locked onto separate maps during the rotation. “Please rotate Worlds Edge/Olympus in opposite times in trios/duos. So when trios is World’s Edge, duos will be Olympus,” the Apex player posted. As Calamiti pointed out, the idea would also help players who queue up as a solo because they wouldn’t just be forced to play one map and mode, and could pick and choose depending on how things are going. Please rotate Worlds Edge / Olympus in opposite times in trios / duos. So when trios is worlds edge, duos will be Olympus. That way solos and duos can play what map they want. But, there are also healing and utility items such as Med Kits and Cell Shields that make sure to keep you alive. Additionally, there are items that don’t fall under those two categories, but instead do much more. Survival items, with their unique uses, can be the difference of life and death, that’s why controller players are wanting easier access to them. And thanks to one particular fan, there might be a way to do it. Apex Legends fan comes up with a brilliant idea for survival item access Due to survival items being a relatively new addition to Apex Legends, controller players have been stuck with the issue of having to choose a keybind for it. This is because the button that players use to activate the item, the left d-pad, is also the same button that is used to inspect their weapon. This makes it so the players have to choose between the two. In response to this, an Apex Legends fan has come up with the prefect solution that would allow players to access both their survival items and be able to inspect their weapons. Brought up by Redditor IFlanxI, the user posted a picture of the game’s item wheel and asked, “would anyone else like to see survival items here?” Seemingly suggesting that the wheel could be utilized for survival items as well. They added that with this change players wouldn’t “have to choose between inspect animation and quick access to survival items.” This idea was echoed by other Apex Legends fans in the Reddit post, with one stating, “I’m very very surprised I haven’t seen this idea before. It’s awesome.” While another said, “I feel like this would be a sick addition.” It’s not the first time players have suggested ideas pertaining to Survival items and it most likely won’t be the last. Only time will tell if Respawn Entertainment will actually implement some of them.

Picture this. You’re in a ranked match and have successfully made it into the final few squads. After surviving multiple enemy engagements, the end is in sight. However, just when you think that you can hear the “you are the Apex champion” quip echo through World’s Edge, your teammate leaves… Rendering your chances of notching another win to your tally a lot less likely. Players leaving mid-game in team-based shooters is one of the biggest annoyances for both players and devs. Regardless of the situation, fighting with fewer numbers severely impedes your chances. Yet in the battle royale genre, the price to pay is much higher — given that you cannot simply self-respawn after losing a gunfight. Apex Legends’ respawn beacon system revolutionized the game just over a year ago, but that has done little to mitigate the long-standing issue of players leaving prematurely. However, one Reddit user might have just unlocked the secret ingredient to ensure those left in the server aren’t paying the price for other’s actions. “If your teammate leaves mid-game, then their card should summon a dummy,” the theory goes. Dummies are the key Initially appearing in the Firing Range easter egg (and then featuring in Pathfinder’s Grand Soirée event), Dummies could be the ideal solution for players leaving mid-game. Wraith is one of the more difficult Legends to play as in Respawn Entertainment’s hugely popular battle royale title – and cosplaying as her, to a really high level, isn’t the easiest of tasks. However, cosplay and body painter extraordinaire KayPike incredibly brought the character and its Void Specialist skin to life with an extremely detailed representation – while streaming on Twitch. Complete with mask, the Void Specialist cosplay matches the coloring and close details of the different decals scattered around the skin – including a number of spikes on the shoulders and a full recreation of the logo that sits on the chest. In her post to the Apex Legends subreddit, which was complete with a gif of the cosplay in action, KayPike revealed that around 14 straight hours of detailing was needed to make the cosplay look as spectacular as possible. Yet, the arduous task was made a little easier by interacting with her Twitch viewers during the whole thing and relaying updates to her Twitter account. Plenty of compliments were made about how good the final design looked, with Repsawn Entertainments developers even chiming in with their own positive comments. “Wow! I just check out some of your other work. Hold [holy] crap you’re incredible,” commented Mohammad ‘BadMofo’ Alavi, clearly making a slight typo with his positivity – positing ‘hold crap’ instead of ‘holy crap.’ As an experienced cosplayer and Apex Legends fan, making herself look like Wraith isn’t likely to be the last time that KayPike takes inspiration from the popular battle royale game. The body painter even dropped hints that she’d like to transform herself into Pathfinder, even though it would be slightly challenging due to the screen in the character’s body, but would allow for an awesome optical illusion – complete with the Legends smiley face.

Bocek Bow & Rampage added to Apex Legends care packages for Season 14 Respawn EntertainmentThe contents of Apex Legends’ care packages are changing again for Season 14 with two new inclusions while a duo of favorites returns to ground loot. The Bocek Bow and Rampage are being vaulted, while the G7 Scout and Volt return to regular floor loot. Every season, Respawn likes to shake up Apex Legends’ care packages a bit. The guns it boasts are often the game’s most overpowered with developers juicing them up as their rarity increases. While sometimes the changes are small, Apex Legends Season 14 boasts a big shift. Two new weapons are being vaulted into the Care Packages for the first time: the Bocek Bow and the Rampage. With the two guns’ inclusions, they’ll both be significantly buffed to be worthy of their red rarity. Arrows will also be removed from ground loot given its only user, the Bocek, will come with plenty of rounds already equipped from the care package. The Bocek’s addition will also be applauded by the community after a push to vault it earlier in its life cycle. To keep things balanced though, Respawn are returning two guns to ground loot — The G7 Scout and the Volt SMG. They will both keep the same ammo type they had before being vaulted, Light and Energy respectively, with the Double-Tap Trigger hop-up also returning for the former. The Kraber and the Mastiff shotgun will remain vaulted throughout Apex Legends Season 14. The care package changes make for interesting gameplay alongside a number of other weapon alterations. Heavy ammo will be much less contested with the Spitfire swapping to Light and the Wingman becoming a Sniper on top of the Rampage’s vaulting. Now only the 30-30 Repeater, Prowler, C.A.R., Hemlok, and Flatline take the ammo type. The EVA-8 rework will give the Peacekeeper some competition for Shotguns, while the return of the Skullpiercer hop-up for three guns rewards those with true aim..
