  • Apex Legends streamer banned on stream apparently for using ‘ult dash’ movement exploit – Dexerto

Apex Legends streamer banned on stream apparently for using ‘ult dash’ movement exploit Respawn Entertainment/Taxi2gApex Legends streamer Svend-Erik ‘Taxi2g’ Høegh has apparently been perma-banned for using the ‘ult dash’ movement exploit. In early January, a speed glitch was discovered in Apex Legends that allowed players to boost forward an unlimited amount of times. The exploit involves players triggering their Ultimate start-up animation, then hitting the melee key, and then finally swapping weapons. If the trick is perfectly-timed, a Legend will propel forwards a short distance, allowing players to dodge bullets and outmaneuver their opponents. Despite this, Respawn didn’t respond to the glitch or give any indication that the issue was going to be fixed, so a lot of content creators and players began using it in their matches. One of which was popular Apex streamer Taxi2g who was banned seemingly out of the blue on January 12. Although there’s been no confirmation that he was banned for using the exploit, he and his viewers seem to think that’s the reason for the punishment. Taxi2g permanently banned from Apex on stream While heading into a Ranked game with his squadmates on January 12, Taxi2g was banned live on stream. During the load screen for a match, he received the error message: “The client’s game account has been banned: Banned.” Of course, this caught Taxi completely off-guard as he had no idea what he had done to deserve the punishment. After receiving the penalty, Taxi realized that he had not received any emails from EA or Respawn notifying him of the reason for the ban. So, he decided to make another account and continue playing. Unfortunately, this account was quickly suspended after a few matches along with the third he made shortly after. It was at this point that Taxi and his viewers began to speculate that his ban may be due to his use of the ‘ult dash’ exploit. However, with no confirmation from Respawn, it’s hard to know whether that’s the case. On January 13, Taxi did receive a reply related to his ban, saying he’d been suspended for breaking “EA’s gameplay rules,” but there was no specific mention of the exploit. XD thanks for keeping apex a fair and fun game for all! 🟩 pic.twitter.com/NbD1xA0upO — Taxi2g (@TaxiDLegend) January 13, 2022 Although all the evidence points towards an exploit ban, some are claiming that other creators have openly admitted to utilizing the ‘ult dash’ glitch and have not been punished. This suggests it could be related to another in-game offense, but with Respawn refusing to provide a detailed explanation, it’s impossible to know. There’s a possibility Taxi has been banned as he performed the exploit on stream in front of his viewers, but it would be strange for Respawn to only punish streamers for abusing the bug. Either way, let’s hope Taxi gets an explanation for the ban in the near future and hopefully the devs can patch out the bug before any other players are punished.

  • Apex Legends streamer banned after insulting Twitch VTuber over in-game spat – Dexerto

Apex Legends streamer banned after insulting Twitch VTuber over in-game spat Twitch / Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends streamer and Twitch Rivals competitor ‘vampzyy’ has been banned from the platform after a toxic episode aimed at a VTuber who ‘spam finished’ him in a match apparently got out of hand. Vampzyy took exception to VTuber ‘Hambino,’ who apparently “spam finished [him] obnoxiously for like 30 seconds straight,” singling him out in a match. While it’s perfectly acceptable to use in-game, Vampzyy “perceived it as a form of toxicity directed towards me personally” when Hambino locked him in consecutive Finisher animations. After that, he went into Hambino’s channel to reciprocate the toxicity, but it went too far for Twitch’s liking. https://twitter.com/Hamb1no/status/1395951812872654849 “This dude was invited to Twitch Rivals, a positive representation of Apex Players,” Harimbo said of Vampzyy’s retaliation. “And he is out here coming into my chat while LIVE, after I spam finished him in a video game, attacking my looks, which encourages his viewers to come into my chat, and post hateful things like this.” Shortly after Vampzzy was banned on Twitch. He told Dexerto the ban levied against him will keep his channel offline for seven (7) days. After Vampzzy and his Twitch Chat invaded the VTuber’s channel, there were bad actors who posted hateful messages directed at the streamer for being LGBT, Hambino said. Once the situation had come to a head, Vampzzy defended himself by saying he was not the one to send hateful messages. Instead, those texts were sent by a member of his Chat. https://twitter.com/vampzyy/status/1396008834796244995 “I even DMed [Hamibo] personally, apologizing for saying rude things to him and admitting I lost my cool,” Vampzzy said. “What I did not do is say anything homophobic or anti LGBT and you can watch his vod as proof of that.” Vampzzy said he reached out to the VTuber to square away the spat. After the failed attempt, the banned streamer accused Hambino of trying to escalate the ordeal after the fact. Twitch doesn’t usually comment on bans, but Vampzzy is asking for a closer look into the matter since it could lead to more repercussions.

  • Twitch streamer accused of hacking in Apex Legends now banned – Dexerto

Twitch streamer accused of hacking in Apex Legends now banned Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends streamer bjerrehusdk has been banned on Twitch, after being accused of “obvious” aimbotting during broadcasts on the platform. The gamer and his teammates appeared to brag about the cheating tactics they were using during a livestream on June 4, after viewers started to question just how genuine the insane and long-range eliminations the players picked up were. His Twitch channel has since been banned. The reason for such action being taken is still yet to be confirmed, as is the length of the ban, but it could be argued that the evidence does look pretty damning. “I can’t give you the name of my hack, sorry guys” the streamer said during the broadcast, before teammates teased that they would soon reveal their hack to other players in the game’s online community. Whether or not this triggered the suspension, or removal, of bjerrehusdk’s streaming account remains to be seen. However, hacking in broadcasts is certainly breaking Twitch’s terms of use and, if found guilty, this would have been grounds for a ban. Nevertheless, we know now that they won’t be revealing potential hacks on their channel any time soon. The news comes just days after other players on Reddit called for the player to be banned, while others argued that they might be genuine plays. Respawn Entertainment have already banned over 350,000 players from their game for cheating and if bjerrehusdk was found guilty of cheating by Twitch, it could be only a matter of time before the developer bans them from the game as well. Whether or not that ban has already been sanctioned is unknown at this time, but as updates come in for this story we’ll be the first to let you know of any further developments.

How do weapons impact movement in Apex Legends – strafe and ADS speed Since its release at the beginning of February, players have become increasingly accustomed to the weapons in Apex Legends. Moreover, players who have played the game at length, know the better weapons for each situation. Consequently, it is now the finer details that will separate the good and the elite players. Bullet drop and spray patterns are just two additional variables which the best players account for. There is another factor, however, which could come into play when deciding which gun to run with. That is your character’s movement speed depending on which gun they are holding. Read More: Apex Legends weapons guide – Furthermore, the character’s movement speed differs between strafing normally and strafing while ADS. Strafe Speed – The Numbers Redditor, and clear fan of Apex Legends “stroff“, composed the below video. • Apex Legends Storm Point Wildlife guide: How to get easy loot on Season 11 map – Dexerto

Apex Legends Storm Point Wildlife guide: How to get easy loot on Season 11 map Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Season 11 is introducing the new map Storm Point to the rotation and although standard looting will remain the same, killing the local wildlife may be the quickest way to find top-tier gear. Apex Legends Escape is set to go live on November 2 and the community is desperate to play the new Legend Ash and teardown their opponents with the CAR SMG. However, it’s the upcoming Storm Point map that’s getting most of the attention from players as the shift to a tropical island landscape has opened up new possibilities for Respawn. One of which is the inclusion of more monsters on the map and while they may seem like an inconvenience at first, they can offer you a huge advantage if you choose to take them on. With Prowlers, Flyers, and Spiders all being inhabitants of the Storm Point map, let’s check out how they behave and why you should kill them when Escape launches. Contents Spiders on Storm Point The Season 11 announcement blog has shed some light on which creatures you can expect to encounter during your matches on Storm Point and to anyone that’s not a fan of spiders, we suggest staying away from the eggs. These six-legged (not eight) arachnids can be found across the tropical island but will only become aggressive once their eggs have been disturbed. If you do choose to take them on, remember to keep your distance and look out for their ranged spitting attack. Keep in mind, they move incredibly quickly so it’ll take precise aim to track their movement and take them down. Remember to communicate with your squad so each of the creatures is eliminated swiftly. Once they’ve been killed, they’ll drop attachments and ammo for your squad based on your weapon loadouts, as well as a few consumables. Prowlers on Storm Point It’s likely Season 11 won’t be your first encounter with Prowlers but be warned, the ones on Storm Point hunt in packs and can be found in dens scattered across the map. Unlike the Spiders, Prowlers will become aggressive if your stray too close to their home, so make sure to stay vigilant while navigating your way across the island. It’s worth noting that Prowlers have a lot more health than Spiders, but they’re significantly easier to shoot, so be sure to focus them down one by one with your squad. When it comes to loot, the Prowlers offer the same rewards as the Spiders, with the drops being based on what loadouts you and your teammates are using. Flyers on Storm Point The soaring inhabitants of Kings Canyon are also native to the Storm Point map and as always, players can expect Flyers to be carrying around death boxes containing loot of a random rarity. While the Flyers do not pose a direct threat like the Prowlers and Spiders, shooting at them may give away your position to enemy squads so make sure to weigh up the risks before spraying them down with your weapon. Evo Sheild damage from Wildlife Finally, clearing an entire nest will reward you and your squad with crafting materials, and a small percentage of all damage dealt to wildlife is rewarded towards your EVO Armor, so it’s well worth taking on these animals if you’re up to the task. Wildlife Nests are marked on the map with a red icon which indicates the type of creature you can expect to find in the area. Once these nests are cleared, they’re gone for the rest of the game, so don’t let any go to waste.

  • Apex Legends Storm Point hiding spot is unreachable for most characters – Dexerto

Apex Legends Storm Point hiding spot is unreachable for most characters Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players discovered yet another ‘rat spot’ on Storm Point that makes the people using it unreachable by most characters in the game. People are still dissecting every inch of Apex’s fourth map since it was released in the Season 11: Escape patch update. Respawn Entertainment went for a larger design for Storm Point that gives it plenty of nooks and crannies for people to hide in. It’s leading some Apex players to run into teams exploiting these annoying rat spots, which are simply unorthodox places to hide that are obscure enough to completely shroud players until they decide to attack. But not all of these hidden gaps are the same. Redditor ‘InvalidUserName-105’ found a crevice in Apex that can only be reached if you have a character with high mobility. That means Legends who usually stay grounded like Gibraltar, Caustic and Wattson, to name a few, would have trouble getting to it in the first place. Up in the cliffs northeast of Barometer, the player can be seen using Pathfinder’s Grappling Hook to scale boulders which eventually leads to a crevice. Once you reach the spot, there’s a conveniently placed brush at the summit that goes even further in helping people disguise their location. “I know that people have some dig against people who rat in Apex Legends, but I don’t believe that it should be frowned upon,” one person said. “This one, however, is a rat among rats.” Even more interesting is the fact that the game still counts this spot as inbounds and doesn’t force the player to vacate the location within seconds. There have been some impressive rat spots found in Apex Legends before and this one is already making people dread its potential to be abused.

  • Apex Legends reveals huge black hole teaser ahead of Season 7 – Dexerto

Apex Legends reveals huge black hole teaser ahead of Season 7 Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment have revealed their newest teaser ahead of Apex Legends Season 7, involving a black hole and a small spaceship. [jwplayer KEHOOBWR] With Apex Legends Season 7 dropping on November 4, fans of Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale have been eager for details about the new Legend, a potential new map, and everything else that a brand new season brings. The devs have already dropped some hints about potentially adding ‘Olympus’ as a new map, used Horizon as a potential new Legend to give players challenges, and started talking about who will be receiving a buff with the big update. They’ve also added a big teaser in the form of a familiar-looking ‘UFO’ floating off the coast of both World’s Edge and King’s Canyon. Now, they’ve moved on to a new teaser – a black hole. The black hole doesn’t appear in Kings Canyon or World’s Edge, but instead, is the main image being used to hype up the new Stories from the Outlands video. The video, which is set to go live on Monday, October 26 at 3 pm GMT/11 am EDT/8 am PDT, is titled ‘Promise’ and in the image showing the black hole, a small spacecraft can also be seen in the bottom left-hand corner. Some players have quickly suggested that the video is all about Horizon’s official reveal as a new Legend, but it could be showing a flight to Olympus for the new map. We won’t know for sure until the video is premiered. Each Tales from the Outlands videos has given us more and more insight into the bigger story surrounding Apex Legends, including things like the backstory of Bloodhound and the death of Forge. • Apex Legends reveals new Legend Valkyrie in Stories from the Outlands: Northstar. – Dexerto

Apex Legends reveals new Legend Valkyrie in Stories from the Outlands: Northstar. Respawn EntertainmentA new Apex Legends Stories from the Outlands, titled “Northstar,” has given fans our first official look at the new Legend, Valkyrie. Stories from the Outlands is the official Apex Legends video series, which dives into the lore of the game’s characters. It’s often used as promotional material to hype up new launches like Horizon, or dive deep into characters before events like Pathfinder’s Fight Night. Now, the latest episode, an eight-minute-long feast, has revealed the new Legend for Season 9. Who is Valkyrie? While we won’t know more about how Valkyrie plays until the gameplay trailer and Season 9 launch in May, we do get an insight into the lore. It turns out that Valkyrie is the daughter of Viper, an Apex Predator killed by Jack Cooper in Titanfall 2. Valkyrie meets with Blisk, appearing to plan revenge for her father’s death, but either changes her mind, or was only planning to impress Blisk in the first place. “Bold, brash, fiery and fierce, Kairi Imahara grew up in the shadow of her father’s legacy. But now she’s ready to launch her own.” – the short bio from Respawn reads. Northstar, Titanfall players will know, was a Titan in Titanfall 2, most famously used by Viper, an Apex Predator, in the campaign. We see the Northstar in Rampart’s shop, near the end of the episode. We can expect that Valk’s abilities will have some ties to this – such as the much-rumored VTOL hover, just like Northstar. Read More: Who is the Season 9 Legend in Apex Legends? – We will update this piece once the video goes live with all the new info regarding Apex Legends Season 9 and beyond.

  • Apex Legends store update finally makes skins more affordable – Dexerto

Apex Legends store update finally makes skins more affordable RespawnRespawn Entertainment, the studio behind Apex Legends, has been praised by members of the game’s online community for making a long-requested change to the in-game store. Apex Legends developers Respawn have been praised for their game design, but one facet of the popular battle royale title has angered players – microtransactions. This reached a fever pitch following the launch of the Iron Crown event, which saw the most unforgiving microtransaction system added, with players rolling the dice (and spending a lot of money) for a chance to get the cosmetics they actually wanted. Of course, Apex Legends is a free-to-play game, meaning microtransactions are absolutely necessary for the game to be viable commercially, but there are still complaints that the system has been too expensive or unfair to players. For example, a weapon skin in the item store will set players back 1,800 Apex coins – equivalent to $18 – for a single, one-weapon-exclusive skin. Since launch in February, there have been frequent complaints that this price was far too high. But, on September 19, the store introduced some major price slashes, cutting the price of legendary skins by 50%, down to only 900 coins, and players thanked the devs “for listening.” It’s only a temporary sale, so don’t expect the price of skins and cosmetics to stay this low, but having more frequent sales and the increase in free skins following the Iron Crown event controversy are certainly two big steps in the right direction. With Season 3 expected to launch in October, with a new legend and more map changes, there will undoubtedly be more cosmetics and an update to the store. When controversy struck in August, Respawn admitted that they “missed the mark” and broke their promise to players to have a monetization system “that felt fair and provided choice to players on how they spent their money and time.” Although some players still said the price was high even at $9, there must be a balance at some level, so as to ensure the game can survive and is profitable. Most fans were just happy to see their voices were being heard, and it is a very positive sign for more frequent sales in the future, hopefully throughout Season 3. Respawn is still set to make good on the promise that there will be more ways to unlock skins, and the new challenge system added for Season 2 has certainly helped in that area, and will surely return for the next season too.

  • Apex Legends still hasn’t fixed Caustic Heirloom animation after a year of waiting – Dexerto

Apex Legends still hasn’t fixed Caustic Heirloom animation after a year of waiting Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans are questioning Respawn Entertainment’s silence on a long-delayed Caustic update that was supposed to make his heirloom more useful than ever before. Heirlooms are one of the most unique aspects of Apex Legends. These one-of-a-kind collectibles are incredibly rare, boasting a drop rate of less than one percent of all Legend packs. As such, fans of the game tend to be sensitive to updates concerning these treasures. Back in 2021, the Apex devs promised that the mad chemist would be getting a new animation for his beloved hammer but over a year later and there has been no update and the community is voicing their displeasure over the fact. Apex players still waiting for Caustic Heirloom update The promise in question was made in the Fight Night Collection Event of January 2021. In the patch notes of that event, the devs commented that they had removed a section of the notes dedicated to updates for both Mirage and Caustic’s prized possessions but reassured fans that both changes were still on the horizon. A year later, an Apex Legends post has blown up…. @_moyparra Hey Moy, quick question Will Caustic be getting his heirloom door smash animation anytime soon 👉👈🥺 pic.twitter.com/EFmf3eQop1 — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) April 8, 2022 One Reddit user highlighted the community’s frustrations and how it feels like the day may never come for either Legend: “Fun thing is you can never get to the Future, I guess we all spend too much time in the present to get any of the future updates and changes.” These complaints fall in line with the popular sentiment that heirlooms, especially older ones, should be upgradable as the developers innovate with each new item that gets added to the game. While the issue is clear to see it doesn’t seem to be on the team’s radar according to the Apex Trello board

  • Apex Legends players slam new sticker pack prices in Season 15 – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam new sticker pack prices in Season 15 Electronic ArtsApex Legends players aren’t happy with the pricing of the new cosmetic sticker pack in Season 15, which only includes a single sticker. Respawn added more customization options to Apex Legends upon rolling out the recently released Season 15 content. One such addition includes stickers that players can apply to in-game healing items such as syringes and shield batteries for personalization purposes. Gaining access to new stickers is as simple as purchasing them with Apex Coins or finding them by opening packs. But the cost of these tiny customization options has already riled up a fair few fans. Apex Legends players unhappy with sticker pack pricing Stickers just hit the in-game shop in Apex Legends, yet players like Redditor Alegost have already called foul because of the cost. In a thread that’s since garnered more than 700 upvotes, the Reddit user asked why a sticker pack bears a price tag of 300 Apex Coins. The player thinks the asking price is especially egregious since stickers count among the “least visible cosmetics in the game.” As other users in the thread pointed out, the pack doesn’t actually include several stickers – just one. “I feel misled. I bought a pack thinking it would be a pack of three stickers,” reads one reply. Understandably, Apex Legends players remain confused about the Season 15 sticker pack in general. But another Redditor offered a reasonable explanation, saying the stickers are “for spectators,” not the person buying the cosmetic. The person in question posits the stickers were designed to target Twitch viewers who’d want to buy packs because of whatever rare item their favorite pro player equips to their shield battery. Regardless, it seems a good chunk of Apex Legends fans are less than enthused about this particular addition to the popular battle royale game.

  • Apex Legends Steam exclusive cosmetic rewards leaked on EA website – Dexerto

Apex Legends Steam exclusive cosmetic rewards leaked on EA website EA / ValveThree Steam-exclusive Apex Legends cosmetics have been leaked early ahead of Apex’s launch on the marketplace this fall. Respawn Entertainment officially confirmed that their hit battle royale would be coming to Steam for PC players in Fall 2020, around the same time as they release on Nintendo Switch, and launch cross-platform play. Apex Legends is already available on EA’s own PC launcher, Origin, but to entice Steam players to download it, three exclusive weapon charms will be available. One of these charms was actually leaked prior to the Steam announcement itself: the Valve potato. The Valve potato was found in the game files, named “v_charm_valve_potato”, and was one of the big hints at a Steam release for Apex. As expected, this is one of the exclusive items Steam players will be able to secure when the game launches there. Two more weapon charms are also up for grabs, briefly displayed on EA’s website, before the page was deleted. “These will all be free limited-time login rewards for our Apex Legends Steam players, so add it to your wishlist and follow us on Steam today. We’ll keep you updated as we get closer to launch this fall. The charms themselves are all somewhat related to other games released by Valve; the potato from and cube from Portal, and a headcrab from Half-Life attacking Octane. There is no exact release date for Apex Legends on Steam yet, with only ‘fall’ given as the release period. One question on the lips of many Apex players who are already playing on PC with Origin, is whether cross-progression between accounts will be possible. Although some will prefer to use Steam over Origin and may want these exclusive charms, they would most likely be put off if it meant starting a whole new Apex account on the Steam version.

  • Apex Legends on Steam crashing: How to fix crashes – Dexerto

Apex Legends on Steam crashing: How to fix crashes Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players on Steam, which averages over 200,000 concurrent players, are finding it impossible to play after the latest update, with countless players reporting crashes. The 1.90 update for Apex Legends was actually intended to fix a crashing issue on PC, and it appears it was successful – but, in fixing one crashing problem, another has occurred. The issue seems isolated to Steam players though, so players still using Origin as their Apex launcher might not have any issues. Unfortunately, with how widespread the problem is, it’s unlikely any specific setting on your local system will be able to resolve Apex crashing on Steam, but, there are a few things to try. How to fix Apex Legends Steam crashing The first step is to verify game files, by going to Apex in your Steam library, then properties, and verifying the integrity of game files. Next, you may want to set Apex Legends to high priority, so that CPU power is given to Apex first before anything else. To do this: Go to Steam library and right-click Apex Legend, then select Properties – Under general, go to launch options – Add the following commands: -high -preload – This will set Apex Legends to high priority on your PC, and preload will load all textures before launch rather than when it needs them, which can prevent some crash causes. Finally, you may want to check for any driver updates, particularly for your GPU. Read More: When is Apex Legends Mobile coming out? – However, assuming that none of these steps resolve the crashing issue, it is likely we may need to wait for another update from the developers at Respawn. Countless players on the Steam forums are complaining of crashing issues, so it’s definitely not just you. We’ll keep this article updated with any news from the devs or Valve.

Apex Legends statues unveiled at SDCC and they look incredible APEX/Twitter/Weta WorkshopFor collectors and fans of Apex Legends, some new high-quality statues were unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, July 18. The statues are made by the Weta Workshop in New Zealand. They have a history of creating statues and collectables for a number of game franchises such as Borderlands, Tomb Raider and Warcraft. The company has also worked on products for blockbuster movies including Lord of the Rings, Ghostbusters, Planet of the Apes, and Alita Battle Angel. Back in April, it was announced that Apex was partnering with WETA Workshop to bring their characters to life. Now we can see just how that partnership panned out. Already available for pre-order on their website are Bangalore, Bloodhound and Mirage. The “mini epics” sell for $29.99 each. Last night at #SDCC, the folks at @WetaWorkshop revealed their brand-new Figures of Fandom line, available for pre-order this September. Revealed at Comic-Con were Wraith, Pathfinder and Lifeline. They all look incredibly detailed. You can tell a lot of work goes into crafting each statue to make sure they’re authentic to the game. Each figure’s stand even has the Apex logo on it. A nice touch to an already fine piece of work. With season 2 of Apex in full-swing we wouldn’t be surprised to see these collectibles become a hot commodity within the fandom and player base. It will be interesting to see what else the Weta Workshop has up its sleeve in the future with the Apex franchise. Apex Legends Season 2 is here The second season of Apex titled, “Battle Charge” has arrived. This season sees the introduction a new Legend, Wattson, who uses electricity as her a weapon. Additionally, this season introduced several major changes to the Kings Canyon map, including two new named points-of-interest, a revamp of Shattered Forest, a lot of damage done to a variety of locations, and more. Season 2 has a lot more cosmetics, weekly challenges and rewards than season one. Additionally, this season brought the addition of “ranked leagues” for a more competitive experience.

  • Apex Legends stats show which weapons kill fastest – Dexerto

Apex Legends stats show which weapons kill fastest Respawn/EAAn Apex Legends player has revealed the weapons you want to use if you’re looking for quick kills by conjuring up some pretty detailed statistics. If you want to become Apex Champions, you’ll need both luck and skill on their side. A mixture of good loot, favorable circle rotations, and also a few mistakes from enemy players. Key to picking up a victory or two is having a good loadout and knowing what equipment to use on the virtual battlefield. So, which weapons will give you the best chance to pick up quick kills with a few swift shots? Some detailed stats were uncovered by eddygCPA and bears_say_meow, posting their findings to the Apex Legends subreddit with a swish table and graphics. In their findings, the Redditors noted that the Havoc has to quickest time-to-kill at 0.46 seconds – though that presumes you hit all headshots and doesn’t account for the quick wind-up. Of course, the Kraber has an immediate kill with a headshot, but you still need to line that up with the crosshairs. Perhaps unsurprisingly, eddygCPA and bears_say_meow found that the Mozambique has the slowest time-to-kill out of all the weapons. The shotgun clocks in with a 1.36-second timing. Top five fastest killing weapons in Apex Legends The time-to-kill findings are somewhat different to the recent highest damage table that was uncovered by Reddit user Adanub. The two tables differ on their assessment of the Prowler – particularly on its full-auto setting. In the highest damage findings, the weapon was said to deal significantly more damage while on full auto compare to burst. However, the burst version of the gun has a better time-to-kill rating. Of course, some players may follow along with the stats and the in-game meta with hopes of racking up wins, but that doesn’t work everybody. At the end of the day, it’s all about what weapon you feel most comfortable wielding – even if you do want to use the Mozambique or G7-Scout.

  • Apex Legends stats show which weapons deal most damage – Dexerto

Apex Legends stats show which weapons deal most damage RespawnAn Apex Legends player has revealed the weapons with the best damage per second (DPS) in the battle royale and the results are pretty interesting. In order to succeed in a battle royale like Apex Legends, aside from needing the luck to be on your side, you need to have the best loadout possible. This means trying to tweak weapons as you progress through games – either by picking up better ones or adding attachments to the ones you have. You could win a game by solely using a pistol but if you don’t get that lucky, or have the skill to do so, you’re probably going to need something that deals the most damage. But which weapon does just that in Apex Legends? Well, the DPS – or damage per second – stats for the current crop of weapons has been revealed. Redditor Adanub drew up their graph after some testing and posted it to the Apex Legends subreddit for all to see. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Devotion – which can only be acquired through in-game supply drops – leads the way in both body and headshot damage stats, but looking further down the list reveals some pretty interesting findings. The P2020 with the Hammerpoint Rounds hop-up is the second-best DPS gun when it comes to body shots, dealing a touch over 230 damage per second to unshielded targets. Though, there is a gap between that and the third-placed L-STAR. Further down the list, Adanub revealed that the Prowler on auto mode comes out significantly better than using it as a burst weapon in both categories – which might come as a surprise to some fans. Highest damage weapons in Apex Legends The Redditor offered an update to their initial list, changing the ranking based on the initial damage that a gun gives off. Based on the damage you can cause in one second, the P2020 with the Hammerpoint Rounds hop-up jumps up to claim top spot, while the Prowler burst and auto modes take second and third respectively. One of the biggest drops down the list comes in the form of the Devotion LMG, though, the Redditor notes that the LMG’s wind-up mechanic is taken into consideration for the ranking. Apex Legends weapons initial damage chart Of course, stats are one thing but picking which weapons you want to use does usually come down to comfortability and familiarity with them. Though, you could start to switch up your set-up now that you know which weapons are likely to lead you to glory.

Apex Legends stats show which Legends are most powerful Respawn EntertainmentA set of updated Apex Legends statistics prove once and for all which Legends are the most powerful in the game – and which ones might be worth avoiding. Most of us have established who our favorite Legends are in the game by this point. While the Pathfinder nerf was a significant one, he’s still a popular pick and his movement still makes him one of the more formidable characters to come up against. That said, with the recent introduction of Loba to the game in Season 5, we’ve got an updated set of stats that show how she weighs up against the likes of Pathfinder, Wraith and the rest of the roster. If you’re looking for a new main to play as, or you’re starting to think your once-overpowered Wraith isn’t quite as good anymore, it might be worth taking a look here to see whether you should consider changing. Taking a look in particular at damage and kills per match, here’s what the results, courtesy of DreamTeam, show. Legends with highest Damage Per Match In terms of Damage Per Match (DPM), Pathfinder and Wraith lead the way, with 491 and 482 respectively. On the lower end of the scale, Bloodhound is the only Legend who averages below 400 DPM, clocking in at little over 393. Legends with highest Kills Per Match New Legend Loba has slotted in pretty well to Apex Legends, becoming a popular pick (6.88% pick rate), and both her DPM and KPM towards the upper side of the mid-table with 459.60 DPM and 1.46 KPM. In terms of Kills per Match, Wraith and Pathfinder actually come second and third to Lifeline, who clocks in at 1.60 KPM. Bloodhound, on the reverse side, gets only 1.12. So, it’s clear to see that Wraith and Pathfinder continue to be the top Legends, but characters such as Lifeline, Loba and Gibraltar can be particularly important when trying to pick a character. Of course, it wouldn’t be clever to put too much stock into this table. If you believe playing as Wattson gives you and the squad your best chance of winning, then it’s a no-brainer to pick her – but it might be worth considering using this table to judge who to pick if you’re looking for a new main. DreamTeam also helped us find out which characters have been the most popular in Season 5 of Apex Legends, so it’s interesting to see how the more popular Legends compare when their kills and damage per match are brought to light.

  • Apex Legends stats reveal why Lifeline’s “buff” is pointless – Dexerto

Apex Legends stats reveal why Lifeline’s “buff” is pointless Respawn EntertainmentRecently revealed stats appear to indicate that the buff given to Lifeline in the Apex Legends Old Ways Lore event has been nigh on pointless – with many fans even calling for a rework. Despite her popularity in nearly every season of Apex Legends so far, recent nerfs (and buffs to her rivals) have seen Lifeline fall in terms of competitive viability. In order to combat this, Respawn Entertainment gave her something of a buff in the April 7 patch. This gave her a new Passive Ability, enabling her to gain access to extra healing items through blue bins scattered around the map. While this sounds like a useful new trick, new statistics appear to contradict its relative strength. The stats were shared by one Apex Legends fan on April 10, and show why the Lifeline buff has barely changed the healing medic’s viability. In the game’s current build, only 10% of the supply bins in the game are blue. On top of this relatively low percentage, the player suggests that the chance of getting a “useful” item in the supply bins is around 20%. Combining these two statistics will calculate the overall percentage of finding a useful item in a blue bin. The user’s maths shows this to be 2% – a buff which many feel is insufficient and even pointless. It’s fair to say that 2% is a very low probability, but Respawn were probably cautious of making Lifeline too strong. However, the stats follows some serious discussion in the Apex community about the viability of Lifeline. Some players have even said that they have ditched the medic in favor of buffed legends, like Gibraltar. Of course, the notion of a “useful” item is fairly subjective depending on the specific situation the player finds themself in. In an early game situation, blue items may be useful to a player. However, in the late game, when they have done more looting, they may already have purple items. It remains to be seen how Respawn will respond to the community feedback. There’s every possibility that the buff to Lifeline was supposed to be minimal to prevent her from becoming too strong. We’ll have to wait and see how this one plays out.

  • Apex Legends stats reveal Warzone 2 still hasn’t overtaken “dead game” – Dexerto

Apex Legends stats reveal Warzone 2 still hasn’t overtaken “dead game” Apex Legends, Call of DutyDespite claims that Apex Legends is a “dead game,” new stats show that the battle royale is still outpacing Warzone 2. The sequel to the massively-popular battle royale, Warzone 2, was a massive hit when it first launched, outpacing even its predecessor. Huge streamers from Dr Disrespect to Ninja to CouRage all dropped into Al Mazrah right after Warzone 2 released, along with hundreds of thousands of other players. Although Warzone is one of the biggest games in the world, it’s still looking up at one of its biggest competitors. Apex Legends still has more players than Warzone 2 According to the Apex Legends News Twitter account, the Respawn battle royale currently has more active players on Steam than does Warzone 2 and even Modern Warfare. In fact, Apex Legends News points out that the “dead game” Apex had 60,000 more players at its peak than did Warzone 2 on the same day. Of course, these stats only account for player counts on Steam, so the total player counts on Xbox or PlayStation consoles could be drastically different than is the case for PCs or Steamdecks. It may very well be that, after accounting for all the different consoles for the two games, that Warzone 2 and MW2 could be ahead of Apex in total players and peak concurrent players. However, although many Warzone and MW2 players might consider Apex a dead game because it has been overshadowed by Warzone 2’s release, that’s clearly not the case.

  • New Apex Legends stats reveal surprising pick rates for each character – Dexerto

New Apex Legends stats reveal surprising pick rates for each character Newly-released statistics highlight which Legends are picked most often in Respawn Entertainment’s popular Battle Royale title Apex Legends, and the results might come as a shock. Apex Legends quickly jumped up the Battle Royale rankings after it’s surprise release in February of 2019 and ever since, a frequent influx of fresh content has been implemented to keep even the most dedicated players coming back. Having launched with eight playable Legends in total, Respawn has added a new combatant with each subsequent season. Not all characters are on an equal playing field it seems however, as newly discovered data shows a shocking disparity in pick-rates across the board. Highlighted in a post from Reddit user ‘thisnotfor,’ the pick-rates of each and every Legend were stacked up against one another and tracked from November 14 through until November 27. While both Caustic and Wattson are supposedly only picked 4.24% and 4.23% of the time respectively, it was Crypto who came in with the lowest utilization of all at a mere 3.56%. The latest addition to the game, Crypto is a Recon Legend that was implemented on October 1. Evidently, the character that comes into battle with his trusty Surveillance Drone has failed to strike a chord with the masses. Coming in with one of the lowest win-rates to boot at 5.88%, the Apex Legends community seemingly holds the opinion that despite being the newest character, Crypto is also the weakest in the game today. Supporting this mentality, a recently conducted survey of dedicated players highlighted how a large majority wish for the Legend to be buffed in the near future. 68% of all those who were questioned outlined how Crypto’s Surveillance Drone was in-fact the weakest element of the character. “I was so excited for him because I thought his drone was going to be a passive ability,” Reddit user WolfBrinkTV elaborated. “Nobody likes flying around enemies while their team has all the fun killing them. It’s extremely boring. He needs a rework.” Comment byu/thisnotfor from discussion inapexlegends Conversely, the Legends with the highest overall pick-rate stand head and shoulders above the rest of the competition. Pathfinder comes in at a 21.01% pick-rate while Wraith leads the pack as the most widely utilized character in the battle royale title at 23.63%. Similarly, in line with the community survey, Pathfinder was the Legend deemed most powerful with Wraith following close behind. Surprisingly however, the statistics indicate that Gibraltar is actually the character with the highest win-rate overall at 8.51%, just edging out Lifeline at 8.45%. Wraith and Pathfinder sit at 7.54% and 7.13% respectively in third and fourth. The following is a full breakdown outlining the pick-rate of each Legend. Wraith – 23.63% – Pathfinder – 21.01% – Lifeline – 11.75% – Bangalore – 8.41% – Octane – 8.06% – Bloodhound – 5.64% – Gibraltar – 4.99% – Mirage – 4.49% – Caustic – 4.24% – Wattson – 4.23% – Crypto – 3.56% – With certain Legends outright more popular and evidently much more viable than others, there’s no denying that an overall balance patch is in-demand so that the lesser characters get their time in the spotlight. While Season 4 is still a few months away, perhaps the next major shakeup will come with the introduction of the next playable character in February 2020 to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Apex Legends’ release.

  • Apex Legends stats for weapon damage per mag in Season 7 – Dexerto

Apex Legends stats for weapon damage per mag in Season 7 Respawn EntertainmentWeapon balancing has been discussed as much as ever during Apex Legends Season 7. Some insightful stats give detailed info on how each gun stacks up in terms of damage per magazine, before you need to spend time reloading. Any battle royale is bound to have different metas depending on weapon balancing. Apex Legends is no different, with players always discussing the viability of different weapons as the Legend pool and map changes. As expected, Season 7 has consisted of a moderate meta shake up. The care package only weapons remain some of the strongest in the game, alongside the R-99, Volt, and Devotion. One way in which weapon strength can be measured is damage per magazine. Obviously, the weapons with larger magazine capacities will perform higher, but it can still provide a useful idea of which weapons can deal the most damage without the need to reload. The graph mirrors these expectations, with larger magazine weapons generally performing better. Each weapon has four lines relating to it, reflecting the different rarities of magazines players can pick up. The player who put this together, u/TheRozB, even provided details for magazine upgrades that affect how much damage your bullets do. It’s a great graphic, and reflects which weapons can cause the most carnage without needing to dip out of the action to reload. A notable takeaway is that the Mastiff deals more damage than the Peacekeeper, despite many loving the Peacekeeper because of its earlier season prevalence. By some distance – touching 1000 damage per mag with its maximum upgrades – is the Spitfire. This won’t surprise anyone who has used the LMG, although its cumbersome handling and moderate recoil will negate some of this damage in the form of missed shots. It’s a fascinating graphic, but remember that it’s not completely definitive as to the best weapons. Fast reloading or dipping in and out of the action cleverly can still go a long way. Finally, keep in mind that these stats could change with weapon tuning updates, especially when Apex Legends Season 8 drops on February 2.

  • Apex Legends stars Snip3down and ImperialHal weigh in on tier-one orgs leaving ALGS – Dexerto

Apex Legends stars Snip3down and ImperialHal weigh in on tier-one orgs leaving ALGS Snip3down/ImperialHal/Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends mainstays ImperialHal and Snip3down have shared their thoughts on why Cloud9, Team Liquid, and G2 Esports have all dropped their pro rosters and pulled out of the ALGS scene. December has been a worrying time for the Apex Legends community, especially when it comes to the professional scene. Upon missing qualification for the Apex Legends Global Series Year 3 event in London, Cloud9, G2, and Team Liquid have all dropped their rosters and announced their departure from Apex. If this trend continues it could be a massive blow to the title’s esports scene and while a lack of support from EA has been a cited reason for their departure, ImperialHal and Snip3down both think there’s more to it than that. They gave their opinions on the situation during some on-stream discussions, with both players having unique insights on what could be causing these organizations to head for greener pastures. ImperialHal and Snip3down give their Apex Legends insight While ImperialHal and Snip3down both thought there was more to these big orgs leaving than meets the eye, their opinion on why was slightly different. It’d be one thing to drop a roster that’s performing poorly and try to find another, but it’s a different thing entirely to leave the esports scene entirely after failing to qualify for an event. And, while both arguments differ a bit, they get to the same endpoint: These organizations don’t see a big enough return on investment within the Apex Legends scene, even if they have the money to spend on keeping a roster. “These orgs are funding so much money into other games that it makes Apex just look like nothing.”, was a big part of Hal’s take on why these orgs are leaving, and that the poor performance of these rosters showed that it’s hard to guarantee a good ROI in the scene when compared to other, bigger esports. “I don’t buy any of that bulls***,” is what Hal had to say about organizations claiming that they left because EA didn’t support them. He also claimed that these big companies may have stuck around if their teams were consistently qualifying for big events. Snip3down’s take was rooted more in business, where he argued that these teams are having a hard time justifying their stay in Apex Legends for a multitude of reasons, chief among them being that Apex Legends could be seen as an “unsustainable product”. “When tier 1 orgs are leaving, that means that they are seeing something non-tier 1 orgs aren’t. But most non-tier 1 orgs are not looking to make an ROI right away,” he explained. “They’re mostly just trying to be seen with the big guns like the TSMs and the FaZes and all these other ones. They’re just looking to be in the picture.” Snip3down argues that smaller organizations can justify losing money on Apex by having exposure at significant events in an esport that is very unpredictable in many ways. Getting a top spot with bigger, more esteemed orgs can do a lot to put an organization on the map. But, for names like G2 that don’t have to worry about growing their brand through Apex Legends, it’s hard to ignore the risk of losing money when money is what you’re there for.

  • Apex Legends star reveals he almost joined TSM – Dexerto

Apex Legends star reveals he almost joined TSM Respawn Entertainment/TSMApex Legends pro Noyan ‘Genburten’ Ozkose revealed that he nearly joined TSM’s pro roster to replace Eric ‘Snip3down’ Wrona back in 2020. TSM’s current Apex Legends pro roster is made up of their IGL Philip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen, Jordan ‘Reps’ Wolfe, and Evan ‘Verhulst’ Verhulst. This roster managed to successfully claim first place in the ALGS 2023 Split 1 Playoffs, netting a huge prize pool of over $300,000. However, according to Genburten, TSM’s squad could have looked very different if visa problems hadn’t prevented him from joining the organization back in 2020. Apex Legends pro Genburten could have joined TSM During a recent stream, Genburten revealed that ImperialHal reached out to him after Snip3down left back in October 2020. Although he had intentions of joining the massive organization, the team needed someone as soon as possible and Gen’s “visa issues” meant that simply wasn’t possible. This meant TSM picked up Velhulst instead of Gen and went on to achieve huge victories in the years since. It’s always interesting to know what could have been in an alternative timeline, but with Velhulst playing extremely well for TSM, and Gen currently playing for DarkZero Esports, it all worked out well in the end. Now, ALGS Year 3 Split 2 has finally kicked off and Gen will be competing against TSM once again, we’ll have to see whether he can take them down, or if TSM can retain their place at the top.

  • Apex Legends star iitzTimmy reveals why he turned down TSM streaming offer – Dexerto

Apex Legends star iitzTimmy reveals why he turned down TSM streaming offer Twitch: iitzTimmy / TSM / Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Twitch star Timmy ‘iitzTimmy’ An has reportedly turned down an offer to join esports giants TSM, with the streamer revealing that despite joining the organization being his “dream”, he’s “not sure” if he wants to join a team. iitzTimmy has blown up on Twitch with the rise of Apex Legends, with the former Golden Guardians member going from hundreds of viewers to thousands across the last 12 months. Helped along by his great talents, and shooting for remarkable challenges across Apex Legends and Valorant, Timmy is now a household name on Twitch. However, he’s not going to follow in the footsteps of streamers like NiceWigg and Nokokopuffs and join an org like 100 Thieves or TSM though. In fact, Timmy is considering not taking up a TSM offer — despite it being his childhood dream to join the legendary organization. “Do you want the truth? I have an offer from TSM. So then you’re going to be like ‘but wait Timmy, why don’t you join TSM?’ I have a lot of offers, chat, from a lot of orgs. It’s not like a flex or anything, but I’m not sure if I want to be in an org. It’s an honest opinion,” he said on December 5. Timmy’s reasoning was simple: He wasn’t sure if organizations would give him enough money. With his stocks going up on the platform, sponsors are coming in, and the conflicts could see him lose out at the end of the day. “I don’t want to say those reasons why on stream because that ruins the perspective of orgs in general, but as a content creator — especially someone as big as me — what can an org do for me? That’s the reason why you join an org. “There has to be some beneficial value. That’s money, but the funny thing is orgs don’t really pay you that much. Some orgs don’t pay enough, their sponsors block what I want as sponsors. “What if [a team] had a Razer or Corsair sponsorship, and I wanted a Logitech sponsor. That would be a conflict with the organization and myself, and I can’t get that sponsorship anymore. It goes with a lot of sponsors and that’s a big thing.” He also used Twitch star Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek as an example: “Shroud could really get any sponsor he realistically wanted, as long as he has good relationships with them. Those sponsors would probably pay shroud more money than the org would.” The TSM offer was a bigger deal than most for Timmy. Having previously been signed to Golden Guardians, he had an idea of what it was like being in an organization. However, joining TSM was his dream, dating back to the “Baylife” League of Legends days. “For me, personally, when I was younger and played a lot of League of Legends, I was a huge TSM fan. My dream was to be on TSM. As I became better and I wanted to become a better player, all the good players were on TSM. “When I got my TSM offer, it wasn’t that the offer was bad, but I’d gotten to this point as a streamer where I felt like I didn’t need them. There’s that passion to join these orgs — TSM, NRG, Liquid, there’s so many of them — but why do I want to join them?” The related segment begins at 9:35:34. Despite all the talk about sponsors and money though, Timmy did set a price tag that he would sign for any org on the spot: “If someone is going to offer me a million dollars for a year to sign for an org right now, I’ll do it. I won’t need no f**king subs. You guys keep your five dollars.”

  • Apex Legends stand by ban after LuLuLuvely reports “innocent” player – Dexerto

Apex Legends stand by ban after LuLuLuvely reports “innocent” player Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment have said they stand by a ban ruling that caused controversy in the Apex Legends community, after NRG streamer ‘LuLuLuvely’ reported a player who protested their innocence on Reddit. After a hacker mowed down a team of streamers including Lulu, the NRG content creator immediately filed a report to Respawn’s security team member Conor ‘Hideouts’ Ford to sort the situation. According to LuLuLuvely, her claim included a clip that clearly shows the enemy Gibraltar blatantly hacking. However, the person playing Bloodhound alongside Gibby was also ousted. The Bloodhound, who initially disputed the decision under their Reddit account ‘KongoBoom,’ slammed Respawn and Hideouts for how the process was carried out and reaffirmed their innocence. Their post was titled “Killing streamers got me banned.” “I’m season 6 / 3 predator with more than 30,000 kills you said I was cheating and in the video everything’s clear. The streamer gave my name mistakenly to the developer, in your email you said I was cheating without giving any proof,” they said. This quickly set off the community. Accusations of a compromised system, favoritism to particular streamers, or lack of proper handling for bans were all brought up. LuLu apologized to the player on Twitter, and said she would pass the thread along to get it attention. But, there was still anger about the supposed favoritism to address concerns of streamers, before regular players. But after hours of community in-fighting and apparent “borderline death threats” toward LuLu, Respawn said they were standing by the decision. Regarding today’s Reddit thread from a banned Bloodhound player: * BH appeared to have multiple other banned accounts * BH has a history of attempting to evade bans * BH was partied with the cheating GibraltarWe stand by the ban. — Apex Legends (@PlayApex) October 22, 2020 “Regarding today’s Reddit thread from a banned Bloodhound (BH) player,” the studio wrote. “BH appeared to have multiple other banned accounts, BH has a history of attempting to evade bans, BH was partied with the cheating Gibraltar. We stand by the ban.” Initially, KongoBoom expressed their frustration at the sequence of events. While the NRG streamer indicated that she had no intention of the Bloodhound being banned when making the report, the security team at Respawn have decided there was enough evidence to merit the verdict. Following Respawn’s statement, LuLuLuvely said “Shame on those who sent borderline death threats to me because of a Reddit post from the guy claiming he was innocent.” Shame on those who sent borderline death threats to me because of a reddit post from the guy claiming he was innocent. I hope you find peace in your life and stay off the internet. https://t.co/xcCMbreGwR — Lulu (@LuluLuvely) October 22, 2020 It should be noted that anyone can access the ‘Cheater Report’ Discord channel that’s handled by Hideouts, where people can directly submit clips and evidence of a hacker. Uproar on this topic has devolved to speculation and accusations outside of Apex Legends and Respawn entirely, but the developers have now concluded this chapter of their long-standing battle against cheaters.

  • Apex Legends squad kills world record smashed during Code Red tournament – Dexerto

Apex Legends squad kills world record smashed during Code Red tournament Graphics: Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Code Red tournaments are known for their entertainment, competition, and excitement, but not many would have expected the world record for squad eliminations to be smashed during the event. It takes a lot of skill to be crowned Champions of the Arena in the popular battle royale title, making the qualification stages typically difficult for teams to progress through in competitive events. With that being said, it’s going to be even more difficult for players to compete in Code Red tournaments if trios are pushing and making easy work of most of the players in a single game. New world record holders A team, which included players tevDesertuk (Wraith), Fyzu (Octane) and Wrugb (Bangalore), managed to pick off an astonishing number of other players in a qualifying match, with 46 kills between the three players. It wasn’t as if one player took all of the glory, either, as they spread the eliminations out evenly to avoid calls of one player carrying the others. tvDesertuk had the highest tally with 20 eliminations, while Wrugb recorded 16 and Fyzu had the least with 10 – coming together to create the most dominant trio the game has seen, at the time of writing. Proving they broke Apex Legends’ squad record The team initially posted their achievement to the Apex Legends subreddit, but it’s only a short clip in the main post showing the end of the match. Yet, as is the case with many of these record videos, it was met with some skepticism from other gamers. “They just kill 2 guys out of 3 man party and let them respawn teammates, so they get more kills,” one redditor said. “There is no other way to get such score without doing it that way. However, that theory was quickly debunked by the team, who posted a video of their incredible achievement to YouTube and shared it with the online community. It’s fair to say that you wouldn’t want to get matched up with this team, especially not in this form. Previous Apex Legends squad kills record holder This incredible tally of 46 eliminations in one match bettered the previous joint record of 41 on PC platform, which was shared by two trios – ssjfpsTV, ItsScubby, SHAAFFER and Teenage, Kyraig, JP2. You can check out our Apex Legends world record hub – which is updated regularly – to see who holds all of the game’s highest achievements, and track how many kills you would have to reach in order to be in with a chance of becoming a record-breaker yourself. • Apex Legends squad wipe trick gives free loot to aggressive players – Dexerto

Apex Legends squad wipe trick gives free loot to aggressive players Respawn EntertainmentCrafty Apex Legends players have discovered that an enemy Lifeline ultimate can be an opportunity for some free loot if you can score a squad wipe fast enough. Most everyone who has played Apex Legends will be familiar with Lifeline’s ultimate ability, Care Package, which conveniently drops down some extra items for the Combat Medic’s squad, saving them some time from looting or just providing some utility in a pinch. The biggest downside to the ability is that it’s immediately clear the package is heading, so any observant enemies in the area could play that to their advantage and go on the hunt quickly after spotting one. While that’s a common enough strategy, there’s also a semi-secret reward for those who can take out the Lifeline and her friends before they’re able to open their supply drop. Apex Legends players are hunting down Lifeline for free loot All it takes is for the opposition to track down a Lifeline package and wipe the squad who called it in for the package to be free to open. The Care Package always brings down three items and the rarity of the loot improves the later into a match that it is called down. This trick takes some serious speed to pull off but if done correctly it can provide a major boon to a needy team and could make a big difference depending on what the group scores for their efforts. In this funny clip from the Apex Legends subreddit, you can see a team pull it off beautifully and get rewarded with three Mobile Respawn Beacons – one for each member of the unfortunate trio that they sent back to the menu. Of course, this isn’t the kind of strategy that’s going to be useful in every game or anything, but it’s always nice to know your options, especially if things are looking sketchy heading into an endgame situation.

Apex Legends squad shows off hilarious Three Strikes LTM strategy Twitter: Apex LegendsAn Apex Legends squad devised a hilarious strategy to keep knocked players from running away in the Three Strikes LTM. Apex Legends Three Strikes LTM is still going strong, with many claiming the mode has reignited their passion for the battle royale game. For those who haven’t played Three Strikes yet, The game mode allows for teams to respawn with full gear up to three times, revive teammates quickly, and prevent damage when knocked. Now, one Apex Legends squad showed off a hilarious strategy they devised for keeping knocked players from returning to their teammates to get instantly revived. Apex Legends squad traps knocked players in Three Strikes LTM A post on the Apex Legends subreddit titled, “One way to keep knocks from running in 3 Strikes…” gained traction among fans. The OP included a video clip that showed their squad managed to corral two knocked enemies into a makeshift pen using Rampart’s amped covers. Having no way to jump over the barriers, the knocked players could do nothing but sit and wait for their third teammate as the squad decorated the pen with Holosprays. In the comments, the OP explained that “Their 3rd ran and hid in 3 strikes. The 2 knocks tried to crawl all the way to him so my teammates & I punched them to the wall where I then trapped them til their 3rd was found by another team.” While some players accused the trio of camping in the LTM, the OP clarified this was their first fight. “This was our first fight & their 3rd decided to run, hide, & never came back to res their teammates. So we were just messing around… Like who the heck rats in 3 Strike?” they asked. Considering the two knocked players could have simply bled out at will any time, their third teammate may have been biding their time to try and revive eventually. Regardless, it seems they were discovered by another team, as the two captives eventually returned to death boxes. Rampart mains playing Three Strikes may want to create their own knocked pens for those pesky players who have a knack for running away.

Apex Legends’ Stormpoint map returned again in Season 14 alongside the newly updated Kings Canyon. Despite getting some tweaks in Season 13, Stormpoint retained its deadly wildlife scattered across the map. Now, a hilarious clip showcased precisely why it’s crucial to deal with Stormpoint’s dangerous fauna before it’s too late. Apex Legends squad loses game to spiders The moment comes from a Reddit user called TheGrizzlyIdiot who posted to the Apex Legends subreddit. They present the video as a faux “nature documentary,” where a “TTV Wraith” battled it out with a Fuse at the end of a match. After some more commentary, the footage shows the TTV Wraith punching Fuse who flies backward into a pack of spiders. Despite Fuse “being from Australia” and therefore “used to spiders” as TheGrizzlyIdiot eloquently puts it, the spiders take out Fuse in one hit, ending the match. The clip quickly gained traction on Reddit, with over 1,100 upvotes in just under a day’s time with plenty of comments praising the video’s humor and presentation. “Damn that Attenborough impression is on point,” said Baz135, referring to famed English historian and broadcaster David Attenborough. After multiple Apex fans asked for more of these videos, the original uploader mentioned they planned to “try one for each character.” As it turns out, the original poster has more Apex Legends “nature documentaries” on TikTok under the username TunnelRat367. In addition to Fuse, the Apex fan has made a few more of these funny clips focusing on Octane and Bloodhound players. It seems TunnelRat367 may just have a future as a documentarian themselves if the reception to this Fuse fail is any indication.

  • Apex Legends spot on Kings Canyon guarantees gold loot every time in Season 12 – Dexerto

Apex Legends spot on Kings Canyon guarantees gold loot every time in Season 12 Respawn EntertainmentA spot on Kings Canyon that provides Apex Legends players with gold loot almost every time in Season 12, and it’s incredibly easy to find. Season 12 of Apex Legends is live and it introduced the new Legend Mad Maggie to the Outlands, a revamped Olympus map, and of course, the incredibly fun 9v9 Control mode. However, with World’s Edge disappearing for the remainder of Defiance, Kings Canyon has been re-added to the map rotation and players are already identifying the best locations for loot. While some POIs can be relied upon to provide plenty of purple tier items, it’s difficult to find a spot that guarantees gold tier loot. Well, thanks to Apex YouTuber The Gaming Merchant that seems to have changed, as they’ve managed to find a spot that seems to hold gold loot almost every single match on Kings Canyon. Kings Canyon spot provides high-tier loot every match It’s possible to win an Apex Legends match with basic loot, but high-tier items certainly make winning gunfights and taking down opponents significantly easier. As a result, it’s important you get your hands on the best loot possible as soon as you drop down onto the map and luckily, The Gaming Merchant has found the perfect location. Situated just south of The Pit POIs there’s a small building surrounded by a set of loot bins, it’s here that a gold tier item will spawn almost every match. Of course, it’s possible in some matches that luck isn’t on your side and a gold item doesn’t appear, but the majority of the time it’s ideal for getting your hands on a top-tier item early. Keep in mind, even if you get the odd game where the gold item doesn’t spawn, this area still has plenty of loot to set up a whole squad for the start of the game. Not only that, it provides strong rotation options to Containment, The Pit, or Runoff, so give this landing spot a go, and see what gold item you managed to find.

  • Apex Legends sponsors and factions concept would be a game-changer – Dexerto

Apex Legends sponsors and factions concept would be a game-changer Respawn EntertainmentOne Apex Legends fan has come up with a clever, potentially game-changing idea that could easily be implemented at any point. How popular is Apex Legends? Over 50 million players have tried their hand at Respawn Entertainment’s take on the battle royale genre – including their own seasonal content release, Wild Frontier. However, fans have been left wanting more and more from the popular title. Concept ideas for the game have flooded social media, as fans try to put their own spin on things. We’ve already seen ideas based on new characters, new finisher abilities and end-of-game rewards for Apex Champions. Yet, another idea may shake up how the popular battle royale is played altogether. Posted to the Apex Legends subreddit, the idea from user FrozenFroh, would allow players buy in-game sponsors user their Apex Tokens – allowing fans of the title to represent a certain faction or group. Rough ideas for the concept including being able to unlock a ton of new badges – adding on to the 169 that already available and unlockable in-game for various different reasons. The factions and sponsors could also play a role in getting players into the game, be it returning for another session and being greeted with a new welcome message, or waiting for that all-important respawn from a teammate inside a dropship instead of watching a live feed of the game. What new plans does Respawn have for Apex Legends? It remains to be seen if Respawn adds any of these interesting concept ideas moving forward in a similar fashion to how Fortnite. While the developer could be touted as stealing content from elsewhere, if fans have a real demand for change then the developer could be missing out by not following through on the demand. It could just be a matter of wait and see for fans as Respawn has already committed the game for the long-term, laying out a full year one road map upon the title’s release. While what they have lined up is still under wraps, the Titanfall developer could well have plans of their own for similar sort of content that could be released in the future.

  • Apex Legends community split on #ApexStrike campaign for “Operation Health” – Dexerto

Apex Legends community split on #ApexStrike campaign for “Operation Health” Respawn EntertainmentAs Respawn Entertainment continue to push out patch fixes for Apex Legends bugs and server issues in Season 10, a call for an #ApexStrike in support of ‘Operation Health’ is getting met with mixed reactions. Operation Health is a suggestion from some people in the Apex community that asks Respawn to make Season 11 generally dedicated to everything from updating server infrastructure to fixing some of the more prevalent bugs and issues in the battle royale. While there’s a growing sentiment from fans that Respawn should release more meaningful patch fixes, one developer responded to the campaign for a maintenance-focused season saying: “it’s not really reflective of how game development works.” Still, he reassured players that the team was obviously focused on ironing out the problems. Shortly after the launch of the Apex Legends Evolution Collection patch, Respawn issued a few different updates to help server stalls and such, but with varying degrees of results. As the season goes on, one player has already recommended an #ApexStrike. Though the idea is coming from a good place, it’s being met with mixed reactions. “It’s our favorite game, please fix it,” user ‘writing-nerdy’ said. The ‘strike’ would have people off the game on September 27 to amplify calls for an Operation Health initiative for Season 11. “I feel like I should have just called it something else [other than a strike], I just want them to promise to fix big issues,” they explained. “I want them to dedicate time and promise to fix big problems over other minor things and take/acquire help wherever they can. Things like operating the game at high fps, broken audio, messed up servers, whatever, shouldn’t be an issue this many seasons in… So if you will stand with me, it’s just one day without Apex and we can show them that it is our favorite game and we want them to fix it! We love Apex!” This immediately garnered responses from voices on both sides of the aisle, as well as players reminding people about the time Ubisoft did their own Operation Health for R6: Siege in 2017. “Believe me, as someone that has played Siege during Operation Health, you do not want that in Apex,” one user responded. Read more: When is Apex Legends Season 11? – Tackling fixes in a free-to-play game demands active development from multiple teams, while having other departments work on new content. Respawn have acknowledged the issues currently affecting Apex Legends and have communicated their resolve in fixing them. Traction for an Apex Legends strike hasn’t been rolling, but it sounds as if the developers are already on the case to fix the biggest problems the battle royale faces.

  • Apex Legends spin-botter is ruining high-level ranked matches – Dexerto

Apex Legends spin-botter is ruining high-level ranked matches Respawn EntertainmentHigh-level Apex Legends ranked matches have been infiltrated by a cheater using what appears to be a spin-bot. Apex Legends is no stranger to cheaters or hackers taking over entire lobbies to farm ranked points or XP. The Repawn title arguably had one of the most high-profile hacking incidents in gaming during an esports event earlier this year. While the developer has shown it is working to fix these issues, cheaters are still able to worm their way into high-level lobbies with what seem to be blatantly obvious cheats. Diamond-ranked players have captured the newest edition of this phenomenon and it appears the cheater is using some version of spin-bot. In two videos posted to social media, people who were matched with the apparent cheater showcased the nauseating point of view of the spin botter. This player, who operates the account EU HXH BO$$ ASSOCIATE #1, moves more chaotically than other spin-bots. However, the effect seems to be the same as the user takes down multiple enemies with ease. “When he is spinning it looks like a kaleidoscope. Pls someone ban this guy,” one Reddit user commented on the clip. Others commented that the chaotic spinning is not just for show in the server, since it can also disrupt players spectating the cheater’s POV by potentially crashing their game. Spin-botting is a classic FPS cheat made famous for its use in Counter-Strike lobbies. Apex Legends is powered by a modified version of the engine Counter-Strike runs on, so it’s also vulnerable to the same cheats. Respawn hasn’t commented on the cheat. But considering these clips have hit social media, it may only be a matter of time before the developer brings down some kind of punishment on the player.

  • Apex Legends spectators: Why you can’t see if you’re being watched anymore – Dexerto

Apex Legends spectators: Why you can’t see if you’re being watched anymore Respawn EntertainmentAfter a slew of comments have been demanding the Respawn introduce the spectator count function back into Apex Legends, we’ve broken down the reason why it was removed to start with. As Season 9 of Apex Legends continues to get underway, Respawn are constantly working to improve their game. With the month-long dry spell finally at an end, we’re looking forward to seeing some serious changes mix up the Outlands. Fans everywhere have been concocting innovative features of their own. From Skyrim-style lockpicking abilities to bouncing around the Firing Range in zero gravity, players have done it all. Amid all of these crazy suggestions, though, are a group of players who are clutching onto the good old days, and they’ve taken to Reddit to show off their controversial wishlist. Some players want Apex Legends spectator count back In a recent Reddit blast from the past, some players have expressed that they want the “spectator count” UI feature brought back. Once upon a time, next to the skull representing your kill count you’d find an open eyeball. This showed you how many players were spectating you, with the number rising and falling as players joined or left your stream. The feature was promptly removed, however, as it made cheating incredibly easy. If you were spectating an enemy, all you’d need to do is tell your living ally where they were and what their item status was, and they’d be easy prey. Despite this, a thread arguing that the feature should be reinstated has garnered an impressive 6.2k likes at the time of writing, and is on the rise. It’s clear from looking at the comments that, for all of those upvotes, there are rather a few downvotes too. Most respondents are pointing out that “this is gone because it’s easier to catch cheaters without it,” while another notes that “I always got nervous when I had viewers, I think I enjoy the game without it.” Others contradict this, writing “just some insight into cheating, you can see who’s spectating with or without this,” with a final response claiming that it gave them “superpowers” as they thrived on the pressure. It’s doubtful that Respawn will bring the all-seeing eye back into our games considering the reason that it was removed. Fs in the chat for spectator count fans.

  • Apex Legends spectator bug makes enemies look like cheaters – Dexerto

Apex Legends spectator bug makes enemies look like cheaters Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends spectator bug is removing the visible recoil from a number of the game’s guns, making enemies look like they have cheats activated. Like most popular multiplayer games, Apex Legends has its fair share of cheaters. From aimbots that give players instant headshots to full armor hacks, there are numerous ways for cheaters to get an unfair advantage. However, a new spectator bug is making innocent players look like their guns have zero recoil. This is obviously a significant problem for the game’s community, especially when it comes to reporting actual cheaters. After all, Apex Legends’ spectator mode is one of the main ways players can see if their foes are legit or not. Quite what is causing this bug remains to be seen, but it could certainly lead to some false reports. Apex Legends spectator bug gives players zero gun recoil While every Apex Legends update brings plenty of new content to the battle royale title, there are times when bugs can slip through the net. Well, this is what appears to have happened with this strange spectator screen problem. Apex Legends YouTuber, Skeptation, posted a clip that revealed how broken the game’s spectator screens are at the moment. In the video, the content creator showcased how certain guns like the P2020, Wingman, and RE-45 Auto all have minimal recoil when viewed from the spectator screen. This can obviously look incredibly suspicious when a player lands all their shots. Skeptation noted that this bug doesn’t actually remove any recoil, but the spectator screen makes it look like legit players are hacking. So, if you’ve recently seen an influx of players that appear to have no recoil on their guns, then there’s a good chance that it is a spectator screen bug. Of course, this can make it hard to differentiate between ordinary players and those that are using recoil cheats. Hopefully, Respawn can fix this issue sooner rather than later. Make sure you check out our Apex Legends page for all the latest news and guides.

  • Solos are finally coming to Apex Legends in Season 21 – Solo mode explained – Dexerto

Solos are finally coming to Apex Legends in Season 21 – Solo mode explained Respawn EntertainmentSolos are returning to Apex Legends in Season 21, with some tweaks, for a limited time. Here’s everything you need to know about the revamped solo mode. The last time Apex Legends players got a solo mode was in Season 2, way back in August 2019. It was also only available for a limited time, as a part of the Iron Crown Collection Event. With Season 21, solos mode is back – despite devs saying it would never return – but this time it will be known as “Solo Takeover”. It will replace Duos at the beginning of the season. Apex Legends: Upheaval also brings a new Legend, Alter, and you’ll be able to play as the new Void walking Legend in Solo Takeover while descending into a shattered Broken Moon. How Solo mode works in Apex Legends: Upheaval In Apex Legends Season 21, Solos will take over Duos for the first six weeks and a single match will consist of 50 players. Players can use ‘Battle Sense’ to detect nearby enemies while playing this mode. This is a HUD indicator on the left side of the screen that will pop up when an enemy is within a 50-meter range. Weapons in Solo Takeover come pre-kitted with attachments. You will still need to loot them, you just won’t need to look around for all the attachments. That said, attachments will still be available as ground loot, in case you want to swap a sight or scope. If you die in the first 4 rounds, you will automatically respawn once. This guarantees a second chance, however, you must wait for 8 seconds before getting that “second life”. The new Second Chance mechanic mimics how a player gets respawned by members of a squad, minus all the animations. In case the Second chance is unused by the round cutoff, it will be converted to EVO. When it comes to healing, you’ll auto-heal right after successfully eliminating an enemy. Your HP bar will be refilled but you’ll still need to take cover and shield up before jumping into the next fight. So, that’s how solo mode works in Apex, as the heavily requested mode finally makes a return – whether it will be as popular as players have always thought it would be, we’ll find out this season.

  • GFX artist’s Apex Legends sneaker designs go viral – Dexerto

GFX artist’s Apex Legends sneaker designs go viral A designer has shared an array of Apex Legends themed sneakers. Apex Legends players now want them. Apex Legends is the hottest property on the battle royale market right now and has racked up an incredibly large player base in the few short weeks since its February 4 release. While most players are content with pouring hours into their attempts at winning matches, others have been inspired to create some amazing new concepts and works of art. Apex Legends sneakers Designer and CS:GO artist Chris Le has shared sneaker designs for a number of Apex Legends characters. So far, these include Pathfinder, Bloodhound, Gibraltar, Lifeline and most recently Wraith. These are put on various brands of sneaker, ranging from Air Max, Jordan, Vans and Air Force. They have been shared on his Twitter page and are receiving thousands of likes and comments as he perfectly captures each character’s style. In game accessory? Their slick design and professional touch has left many Apex Legends fans asking for them to be made into an in-game accessory. There might be some copyright issues with the sneaker brands but on a generic sneaker it could certainly be possible. Alternatively, maybe the likes of Nike and Vans will jump on the Apex Legends hype and release some limited edition Apex themed sneakers! Wdup homies! I’m back with another design. • Apex Legends players urge Twitch streamers to stop smurfing – Dexerto

Apex Legends players urge Twitch streamers to stop smurfing Electronic ArtsApex Legends players have once again voiced their frustrations with Smurfing, calling out notable Twitch streamers who participate in the act. Smurfing has long plagued online games, dating back to the early Warcraft 2 days in the 1990s. The practice involves a highly skilled player creating an alternate account, then joining games with lower-level users to essentially trounce the competition. Despite general disdain for such behavior, Smurfing remains a popular tactic in many multiplayer games, including the likes of Valorant. But while titles such as Dota 2 and Overwatch have cracked down on Smurf accounts, Apex Legends players continue to report similar issues to no avail. Apex Legends fans frustrated over Twitch streamers Smurfing Fed up with the Smurfing situation in Apex, Comprehensive-End648 took to Reddit to express their frustrations over Twitch streamers freely employing the tactic. Apparently, the biggest issue is that a number of “big-name” content creators are doing it. The Redditor called out HisWattson, in particular, noting that the streamer has used their Smurf account while playing in Platinum Lobbies. “How is that fair to anyone else? Am I the only one who’s kinda annoyed by this?” Replies to the Reddit thread suggest many players agree that too many Twitch streamers take advantage of Smurfing in Apex Legends. Notably, one person wrote, “I mean, Respawn has never cared about casuals, so why would streamers?” Another player argued that since “matchmaking is so bad,” it hardly matters if anyone Smurfs. Because users continue reporting the issue online, the hope is that Apex Legends developers will eventually take action against Smurf accounts. Whether or not that happens anytime soon is anyone’s guess at this point.

  • Apex Legends’ smooth movement has ruined other shooters, players say – Dexerto

Apex Legends’ smooth movement has ruined other shooters, players say Respawn/EAApex Legends players have praised the game’s movement, claiming it’s impossible for them to switch to other games because of how smooth it feels. Since its release in 2019, Apex Legends has grown to become one of the most popular battle royales globally, with it estimated there are more than 130 million players as of 2022. Like many other games, Apex certainly has its fair share of issues, with some encountering game-breaking bugs and glitches on the regular. Though, thankfully, the Respawn devs have done their part in frequently fixing any problems. While the game isn’t perfect, it certainly has its quirks that players have fallen in love with, and its movement mechanics is one of them. Apex Legends players praise game’s movement In a May 22 Reddit thread, Apex player ‘floydkids’ claimed that all other first-person shooters now feel boring, specifically mentioning Apex Legends’ movement as a reason behind why. “I’m a relatively new Apex player (about 100-150 hours or so) and I have been really enjoying the game after work for the last few months,” they said. “I come from a variety of other FPS games like Valorant and Paladins, but after playing Apex for a while, I’ve found it’s hard to go back to the others without feeling slow, sluggish, and bored.” They added: “I know this game has its flaws, but I have to take a moment to appreciate the movement mechanics and gunplay in this game; it’s unlike anything else out right now.” Others in the thread agreed, with one adding that they now struggle to play other shooters where you’re constantly on the move. “I struggle to play other shooters where you’re running around a lot,” they said. “Apex is just so smooth to play and strafing-while-shooting is perfectly balanced where it adds to the skill ceiling, but isn’t so fast that tracking enemies would feel impossible.” “I fully agree apex single-handedly made me quit cod legit cuz of the movement system,” another added. While many have come to love Apex’s mechanics, a fair amount of the community are calling on the devs for changes as players continue to use tap strafe macros.

  • Apex Legends breaks its player count record on Steam with Season 13 update – Dexerto

Apex Legends breaks its player count record on Steam with Season 13 update Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment has broken another record with Apex Legends Season 13, as more players on Steam poured into the game than ever before. The title’s latest major update landed on May 10, bringing with it a number of map changes on Storm Point, weapon buffs and nerfs, as well as the introduction of another Legend called Newcastle. On the same day, players also discovered a name in the PAK files which hinted at the next Legend’s identity, ramping up the hype for future seasons. However, the developers won’t have to wait until Season 14 to celebrate a landmark achievement for the battle royale game. Apex Legends Season 13 sets a new player record Judging the hype around big content reshuffles like this can be difficult at times, with social media interactions and trends often indicating as much. Now that the dust has settled on the player side of things, a clearer picture has emerged. On May 12, SteamCharts data shows that more players on Steam entered the Apex Games than ever before. The chart below – captured by YouTuber zilke – shows that a record of over 400,000 players has been set. The previous record was 393,116, which was from February 2022. Aside from the changes noted above, Season 13 has also reworked the way ‘Out of Bounds’ works in Apex Legends, making it much more dangerous to leave the battlefield. In addition to that, a helmet buff was a feature of the patch, which has clearly been a hit with members of the community playing on PC. Another tweet from AlphaIntel shows it even went a little higher, towards 412,000. • Apex Legends smashes Fortnite on Twitch in first week – Dexerto

Apex Legends smashes Fortnite on Twitch in first week Respawn / Epic GamesWhile Fortnite Battle Royale held a monopoly over the top spot on Twitch over the past few months, Apex Legends has certainly been giving it a good run for its money over the past week. Since its announcement and release on February 4, Apex Legends has consistently been on top of the Twitch viewing chart, drawing in numbers that have been way higher than Fortnite’s over that same time span. Despite having over 600,000 less total hours streamed than Fortnite in the past seven days, Apex Legends incredibly has had almost 11 million more total hours watched. Apex had an average viewership of 183,089 over that time, nearly 70,000 more than the 115,947 average viewer count of Fortnite. As for peak viewership, Apex topped off at 491,894, while Fortnite’s max viewer count reached 326,454 across all of the channels that were streaming it. What’s perhaps most impressive about these figures is that Fortnite has not dropped off its normal pace of total hours and channels streaming it. Over the past seven days, it’s had about 125,000 more streamers, nearly 4,000 more average channels streaming it, 640,000 hours more streamed, and yet it’s trailed Apex Legends in nearly every viewership statistic. Of course, those numbers don’t mean too much when the biggest channels with the largest viewer-bases are all streaming the new battle royale. Many have attributed Apex Legends’ success, and rightfully so, to the amount of money that developers Respawn Entertainment and publishers EA have invested in recruiting the world’s biggest streamers to play and promote it. The likes of Ninja, shroud, Dr DisRespect, and many other prominent personalities have been playing nothing but Apex since the game’s release, and that has understandably led to some incredible statistics. Many in the online gaming community, particularly those who mainly play Fortnite, have found Apex Legends to be a refreshing alternative, especially since Fortnite has been losing some of its luster as of late. Team Liquid’s POACH has been one of several prominent Fortnite pro players to rave about Apex Legends when comparing the two, calling the latter already more competitive. You know it’s a problem when Apex feels more competitively balanced than Fortnite on release. — POACH (@LiquidPoach) February 10, 2019 like this game literally rewards idiotic plays and people think its skill based — POACH (@LiquidPoach) February 9, 2019 been having a lot of fun with apex, expect apex and customs (finally) mostly until skirmish. — POACH (@LiquidPoach) February 8, 2019 Of course it’s way too early to tell how long Apex Legends can sustain this level of success, and the true potential of the game will be revealed once this honeymoon phase with gamers is over. Whether or not it can ever turn into a legitimate challenge of Fortnite remains to be seen, but it’s definitely off to the most perfect start. Source – Sullygnome

  • Apex Legends: Abilities of unreleased Skunner character leaked – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Abilities of unreleased Skunner character leaked Apex Legends dataminers have uncovered a new legend known as ‘Skunner’ alongside files for their pose cards and even in-game abilities. Ever since the start of Apex Legends season two, the game’s community has been inundated with leaks and teases about possible new characters coming in the future. We’ve already seen plenty of Crypto, as the legend was teased by Respawn, with Rosie and even Nomad’s possible abilities being uncovered ahead of schedule, yet another leak with more details of yet another character appears to have gone under the radar. Thanks to Apex Legends dataminer Tha1MiningGuy, fans have also been made aware of files that hint at another new legend – Skunner. Nicknamed the ‘Crafty Trapper’, the character had previously appeared in older datamines alongside a horde of other legends. While some of them have seen the light of the day – most notably Octane – there are still some that haven’t yet been confirmed, let alone released. However, in an update to those earlier files, the leaker was able to uncover the character’s abilities through doing some digging. In their current forms, these would be: Debris Trap: Drop a pile of debris that slows and damages enemies when they move through it. – Schiltrom Barrier Grenade: Instantly create a spiked barrier made from rapid hardening resin. – Light Step: You are not slowed by debris traps and do not leave traversal evidence for trackers. – However, despite uncovering the three skills, Tha1MiningGuy was not able to put his finger on which one would be the ultimate. He mused that it may well be the Schiltrom Barrier Grenade, but that is very much unconfirmed. Whether or not this Skunner character will make an appearance in Apex Legends anytime soon remains a mystery. It is widely believed, thanks to their showcase in the season two trailer, that Crypto will be the next legend introduced. However, considering respawn hasn’t even confirmed anything about the addition of new legends as fans begin to look past season two and into season three, there could very well be more than one addition to the roster soon enough. As ever, these leaks and datamines are always subject to change and what has been revealed through digging into files could very well be different from the final product. It is best to take them with a heavy pinch of salt until you are actually running around Kings Canyon on the hunt to becoming an Apex Champion while using them.

  • Apex Legends devs warn Skull Town return is ‘only temporary’ – Dexerto

Apex Legends devs warn Skull Town return is ‘only temporary’ RespawnSkull Town is back in Apex Legends, and many players are rejoicing. However, Respawn has warned players that both its battle royale and Arenas return is only temporary, and they have to soak it in during the limited-time Genesis Collection event. It’s like home for many Apex Legends players. Skull Town was the place to drop on the original Kings Canyon. However, after removing the POI in Season 5 and replacing it with Offshore Rig — an attempt to keep the game “fresh” — players have been long pestering Respawn to bring it back. They got their wishes fulfilled in the Genesis Collection event, with Skull Town returning not just as a POI on the original Kings Canyon map which is now in rotation, but also as an Arenas map. There is a catch though. The hot drop of old won’t be around forever, not even as an Arenas map. Skull Town is only a temporary addition to the game, with lead level designer Dave ‘StryderPilot’ Osei citing “tech limitations” as a reason stopping it from permanently returning. “Skull Town in Arenas will only be available for the duration of the Collection Event. Once the event is done, it’s gone. It can always come back later,” he explained. “Currently, all BR [battle royale] Arena locations are using the full BR map to run. You might notice that they take the longest to load when matchmaking. This saved a ton a dev time during production of Arenas.” If it’s popular enough, there’s potential for Skull Town to be a permanent addition into Arenas. However, it’d force Respawn to move some of their developers off future content, like the fast-approaching Season 10, to rejig Skull Town as a fully-fledged Arenas map. “To keep Skull Town, we’d have to find a way to separate it from OG Kings Canyon, which is also a limited time map. This requires other departments to get involved (Art, QA etc.) and they’re pretty busy on future content. So we made the call to keep it limited.” Genesis Collection will kick off on June 29, with the original Kings Canyon and World’s Edge returning in the normal play rotation. Revenant’s heirloom has also dropped, as well as 24 themed cosmetics.

  • Skull Town Arenas map gives big advantage to one side in Apex Legends – Dexerto

Skull Town Arenas map gives big advantage to one side in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have discovered a major flaw in the design of the Skull Town Arenas map that gives the squad on the southern side an unfair advantage. Arenas in Apex Legends have become a hugely popular mode for the game, offering the community another way to play outside of the battle royale. This has left players wanting more content to be added for the mode, and with a Thrillseekers Arenas event on the way alongside a new map in the pipeline, Respawn is definitely giving the player base what they want. Despite adding a limited-time Skull Town Arenas map in the Genesis Collection update, not everybody is satisfied with the layout of the latest map. In fact, players have discovered a major flaw that gives one squad a massive advantage over the other. Apex Legends Skull Town Arenas map has a major flaw A thread posted to the Apex Legends subreddit that showcased a major problem with Skull Town Arenas map has garnered over 10,000 upvotes at the time of writing. After playing an Arenas match on the Northside of Skull Town, Reddit user Gibon378 noticed that they could never reach the loot boxes before the enemy squad who started in the South. This meant that every single round, their team was facing an unfair advantage and taking on opponents with extra meds. The player decided to investigate the issue, and worked out that the supply bins are 60% further away for whichever team starts from the North. This obviously creates an incredibly unfair advantage for one squad in the Arenas map and will need to be addressed by the devs as soon as possible. Although the Skull Town Arenas map isn’t a permanent addition to the game, it still ruins the competitive aspects of the mode for players fighting on the map. Hopefully, this thread will alert Respawn to the problem, and the spawns are shifted on the map to make it fair for both squads.

  • Apex Legends skins point to Alien & Predator crossover coming in Season 14 – Dexerto

Apex Legends skins point to Alien & Predator crossover coming in Season 14 EA / 20th Century StudiosApex Legends fans believe in-game weapon and Legend skins point to an Alien and Predator crossover coming later in Season 14. Apex Legends, unlike some of its competitors, has not properly immersed itself into lucrative pop-culture crossovers. Where Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone have incorporated multiple film stars and iconic film characters into their games, Apex has been more restrained and kept its legend pool rooted in Titanfall. Though, there have been a few themed around Star Wars and Gaiden. However, we could be about to see an Alien and Predator crossover, with eagle-eyed fans believing legend and weapon skins point to both famous franchises. Potential Apex Legends Season 14 Alien & Predator crossover In an August 26 Reddit post, one player suggested that Season 14’s next Collection Event could be based around the universes of Alien, Prometheus (the prequel to Alien), and Predator. They pointed to a pale Gibraltar skin which has serious similarities to Prometheus, as well as two weapon skins that share colors and patterns with Alien and Predator respectively. That wasn’t all, however. Another post highlighted cryptic text on on epic weapon skins; text which appears to be straight out of the Predator films. The weapons in question are the Wingman and Hemlok, with the skins certainly hinting at some link between Apex Legends and the franchises. Having said that, a lot can change in development processes so it’s worth taking the rumors with a pinch of salt. They will remain rumors until confirmed by Respawn or EA. If they are to come in Apex’s next Collection Event, we do not yet have a date for it. Some information has pointed to late September but this, much like the leaks themselves, won’t be confirmed until Respawn make an official comment. Despite starting separately, Alien and Predator have combined previously in a series of films seeing the legendary antagonists clash. As a result, a collaboration with both could definitely happen but, without a track record of pop-culture crossovers, it’s not clear exactly how it’d work in Apex Legends.

  • Apex Legends skin customizer concept will test your color-matching skill – Dexerto

Apex Legends skin customizer concept will test your color-matching skill Reddit: XenotheBoi / RespawnOne Apex Legends community member’s concept for a custom skins color option has got the game’s player base wondering when something like that could be added to the game. There are some downright beautiful character skins in Apex Legends. In any game where character skins are present, players want themselves to look as bold, colorful, and unique as possible. But with only a finite number of skins, that limits the amount of different cosmetic options that players have access to. But one member of the community came up with a concept that can change all that. Created by Apex Legends subreddit user XenotheBoi, the standard model customization color pack allows players to take the original skin of each character and add custom colors into one of three slots. With the Bangalore they used for example, the first color slot is for her grenades, her second slot is for armor, gloves, and kneepads, and the third is for her shirt and boots. In their concept, players could unlock access to the customization pack with either a combination of Legend Tokens and Crafting Metals, or with a massive donation of Apex Coins. It looks like players could then spend additional Tokens or Metals on different color tones, or save up and buy fancy patterns to paste onto their Legends. In the post’s comments, several users expressed their desire for a system like this to be implemented into the game. However, many also gave a realistic reply that Respawn and EA are unlikely to add it because it would just eat into profits they make from their usual microtransaction model. Apex’s developers aren’t alone in maintaining this cosmetic status quo, as neither Fortnite, Call of Duty, or any other game title that makes millions off microtransactions offer a level of customization this thorough. Certain skins in Fortnite have different preset customization options, but that’s the extent of it. If Respawn took an idea like this and added it to the game, it would likely have a higher upfront cost and a higher cost per each color option. But given how well the idea resonates with the community, it could still be very popular with players.

  • Apex Legends: Two simple tricks to protect yourself while looting – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Two simple tricks to protect yourself while looting Looting deathboxes in Apex Legends can be extremely dangerous – but these two simple techniques will let you upgrade your weaponry without risking your life. After eliminating a player in Apex Legends, naturally, everyone is eager to upgrade their loot from their downed enemy. However, given the likelihood of other players entering the fight, standing over a deathbox in the open could be fatal. Two simple tricks have been identified which will allow players to loot in cover to prevent taking unnecessary damage. These techniques can help save your life or allow you to enhance your loadout before a third party arrives. As shown by Reddit user u/mnkymnk, deathboxes can actually be moved into a safe place using your character model. Rather than looting in the open where you will be visible to enemies, use your character to push the box into a room or behind cover before grabbing whatever you need. The same user also found a useful trick when it comes to collecting your team-mates banner. Grenades can be used to propel their deathbox to cover or away from rival players for safe retrieval. Another useful tip involves a similar method. If you can’t move the box easily, you can also simply move yourself. Once you are close enough to a deathbox, hit the key/button to loot it, then slowly back away from it. While in a radius of about five feet, you will still be able loot the box. This is particularly helpful if the box is on the outside of a building. Go out, start looting, and then back away inside to safety, where you can continue looting, even through walls. In the heat of battle, these two techniques can help save you or your teammate’s life in the quest to become an Apex champion. It remains to be seen whether this mechanic is intentional or whether Respawn Entertainment will remove it in an upcoming patch.

  • Apex Legends: How to use simple trick to save your downed teammates – Dexerto

Apex Legends: How to use simple trick to save your downed teammates RespawnOne clever Apex Legends player has revealed a useful hint that will allow you to help downed teammates make it back into the safe zone. Ever since it released back in February, Apex Legends players have been finding helpful hints and tricks all across the sprawling Kings Canyon backdrop. Be it a way to take Caustic and completely hide him, or even using Wattson’s electric fence to give Wraith players a huge shock, something new is uncovered on a regular basis. While these tips can be pretty useful for bumping up your kill total and even winning a match, there are plenty of ways to become a top Apex player while also playing the supporting role. That support role can become vitally important in the late game – especially when your teammate is on the brink of elimination. You could use Wraith’s signature punch, but it won’t matter which Apex Legend you choose. A new way to help your fellow players was shared by Reddit user Yoker47jk to the Apex Legends subreddit. In Yoker47jk’s post, they discovered that they could use their own melee attack to propel a teammate towards the safe zone. With Yoker47jk’s teammate downed at one point, they were able to punch them forward after a quick revive before also using their hand strike to give them a boost while running. As the Bangalore player was downed a second time, the Redditor opted against a revive outside of the ring, instead choosing to push them inside with a further few punches. The tip left some fellow posters questioning why it wasn’t brought to their attention sooner. User keith_shannon commented: “Wow… That’s actually useful information. I literally just had a game where we died getting back to the ring,” before explaining how the punching would have helped. Another, DragonBurst, had a less thankful post – instead, pointing out their own failures when trying to pull off the punching hint. “I usually try to do this, but my punches don’t connect, so I just look like an idiot,” they said. Of course, if you don’t want to end up wasting your time, don’t try and punch your partner all the way from The Pit to Water Treatment as that simply won’t work. Yet, you can absolutely make it work at short distances – just make you’re not swinging at fresh air or coming under fire from a flanking player.

  • Apex Legends: Shroud shows why “dumb” Alternator is now the most OP weapon – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Shroud shows why “dumb” Alternator is now the most OP weapon Respawn / Twitch: ShroudThe underused Alternator SMG in Apex Legends got a significant buff in the big Season 2 update, but top streamer Michael ‘shroud‘ Grzesiek thinks Respawn may have gone a little too far in their attempt to make the weapon viable. Prior to its buff, the Alternator was often used as little more than a handy place to store your attachments until you came across an R99 (the other light rounds SMG) and invariably swapped it out. The R99’s superior rate of fire and handling made it the obvious choice, even with slightly less damage output than the Alternator, but a further damage buff and an insane new attachment has definitely tipped the scales in favor of the previously disregarded SMG. 600The new attachment, called ‘disruptor rounds’ gives a big damage increase against enemy shields, but the patch notes for the Season 2 update didn’t specifically mention what the percentage increase was. Read More: Fastest way to rank up Apex Legends Season 2 Battle Pass – It’s even harder than Season 1 – Judging from gameplay however, it’s very significant, and on July 2 when the update dropped, shroud quickly asserted that the Alternator with its new attachment was his “favorite” gun in the game. When combined with a P2020 pistol, and its new ‘hammerpoint rounds’ attachment, which does increased damage to opponents without shield, it’s a deadly combo. Hopping back on Apex Legends again the following day, the popular streamer immediately went on the hunt for another Alternator and disruptor attachment, and showed once again why it might be ever so slightly too powerful. “Oh my god” shroud gasped as he melted an opponent’s shield in only four shots, “I barely hit the guy” he continued – after dealing a whopping 145 damage points in an instant. Then, as he turned the corner, it appears shroud himself may have been victim to a kitted out Alternator, as his full purple shield was ripped apart in the blink of an eye. “This is so dumb – I hate this, I hate this meta, I hate this game,” Grzesiek stated, even after wiping out the squad, “It kind of turns me off a little bit, but, it is what it is.” With Alternator in hand, shroud and his team perhaps unsurprisingly went on to win the match with little resistance, and it appears that not everyone has realized the power of the weapon. Many will still think of the Alternator as the weak, near-useless SMG that they always avoided or dropped for something better in Season 1 – but as more and more players realize how good it is now, it could become a serious balance problem. Some fans have already started calling for a nerf, and Respawn are always listening to feedback as well as looking at the stats, so the Alternator’s time at the top may be short-lived.

  • Apex Legends: Shroud punches his way to Apex Predator rank – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Shroud punches his way to Apex Predator rank YouTube: HyperX / Respawn EntertainmentMichael ‘CS:GO pro used his character’s fists to secure his spot in Apex Legends’ highest competitive rank. Apex Legends rose to become one of the most popular battle royale games in the world, and delighted fans when they announced the addition of Ranked Play to the game, giving players a chance to test their mettle and see how they measure up against their opponents. Unsurprisingly, shroud has been grinding the mode, working his way through the ranks to earn the top prize, and be crowned an Apex Predator. The streamer finally accomplished his goal on Tuesday, July 16, and did so in some style as he brawled his way to the top. Approaching the end of the game, and with four squads still remaining, shroud found himself on the high ground, with his opponents forced to push towards them if they hoped to evade taking damage from the game’s circle. “This is doable,” called shroud as the teams fought below him, peppering enemies with bullets, taking two down in the process. Finally, it came down to the Canadian and his teammates in a three-versus-one battle against a solo player. Seizing his opportunity, shroud ran down from his perch, putting his gun away and sprinting across towards her while yelling: “I’m punching her!” Sure enough, the Twitch streamer made it over to his foe, and a swift right hand secured the victory, and his status as Apex Predator. Shroud celebrated his achievement, shouting “What’s up son,” and “Let’s go,” as he was named Apex Champion of their match, although he almost gave up on the mode on July 12, after alluding that he was burnt out of the game. The streamer stuck with it though, and now finds himself at the very top of Apex Legends, somewhere long-time viewers will not be surprised to see him.

  • Apex Legends: Shroud explains why Charge Rifle doesn’t need a nerf – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Shroud explains why Charge Rifle doesn’t need a nerf Respawn / ShroudTwitch star Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek has weighed-in with his thoughts on the upcoming nerf to the Charge Rifle in Apex Legends, explaining that he thinks the weapon is already well-balanced. From a brand new fast-paced map, to a new Legend with a host of different abilities, Season 3 has brought a plethora of changes to Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale. Although players are loving the new map, legend and cosmetics, the new energy–based sniper rifle weapon has become a controversial topic in Season 3. Given the changes that have come as a by-product of the Charge Rifle’s addition, the Apex Legends community took to the Apex Legends subreddit to protest the devastating effects of the sniper in-game. Subsequently, Respawn acknowledged the issue and are making changes accordingly. Given the pressing nature of the issue, shroud has given his two cents on the new energy weapon. The former CS:GO pro argued: “It’s insanely good if they’re out in the open, but if there’s any cover at all, it’s really not that good… A Longbow will beat it, ya know?” In terms of the weapon’s use in-game, Grzesiek supported the current meta, stating: “The only way to really do a lot of damage is to trace somebody for the full amount of time, but if they’re just poking and they’re peeking their head and sh*t, it’s really not that good… I kind of like the balance of it.” Shroud went on to explain that the weapon’s effectiveness is entirely situational: “I don’t think it’s actually that broken. It feels broken when people are clueless (and in the open). Any tiny bit of cover, and it’s a useless weapon. Indeed, the issue has been recognized by the developers through their Trello board, with changes set to arrive in a future patch. Given Respawn’s community engagement thus far, they will likely be implementing feedback from popular personalities and the subreddit alike.

  • Apex Legends should add this skin feature from Fortnite – Dexerto

Apex Legends should add this skin feature from Fortnite Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends is one of the most innovative battle royale games on the market, and some of its ideas are now a staple in the genre. But, there are a few things Respawn Entertainment could learn from their competitors, and one of them is skin styles in Fortnite. Fortnite is just as influential in the battle royale space, with its implementation of the battle pass system and countless cosmetic items for players to customize their look. Apex’s skin game isn’t too shabby either, and there is a massive portion of the player base that loves collecting all the skins for their favorite characters. But, there’s one element of Apex’s cosmetics that is a bit lacking – customization of the skins themselves. This is where Fortnite’s skin ‘styles’ system could come in handy. What are skin styles? In Fortnite, one single skin can have multiple ways of being worn. Take for example the ‘Shade’ skin styles above. This is one character skin, but there are three unique styles. One with a different jacket, and one with a full-face helmet. Read More: Respawn cracks down on Apex Legends DDoSers – This makes the skin a 3-for-1 deal, but in Fortnite, players typically have to earn the other styles in some way. Usually this is done through challenges, or by advancing to a certain level on the battle pass. In Apex’s Chaos Theory Collection event, they added this awesome skin for Loba, Haute Hoplite. It comes with an ancient-Greece style helmet – which looks great, but also prompted this idea of skin styles. 3D artist @Psamatheh made a render without the helmet, just to see what it would be like. There are countless other skins already in Apex that this could apply to, such as Wraith’s Voidwalker with the visor raised, or the ‘Void Prowler’ skin without the cat mask. Read More: Apex Legends Fuse buff in the works – And, of course, Respawn could create whole skin sets with this system in mind. They already frequently release recolors of past skins, but old skins with a new physical change would be far more interesting. The method of acquiring these skins could change, either earned through challenges or simply bought in the store. Either way, we’d love to see a skin style system like Fortnite in Apex Legends at some point.

  • Apex Legends shoots to #1 trending on Twitch as Warzone and Overwatch struggle – Dexerto

Apex Legends shoots to #1 trending on Twitch as Warzone and Overwatch struggle Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has had a massive surge in popularity on Twitch this week, becoming the number 1 trending game on the platform. Why? It could all could be due to a “perfect storm” of new content and other titles struggling. It seems like every big streamer on Twitch and YouTube is giving Apex Legends a shot. From xQc to Dr Disrespect, it seems like most big-name streamers are dropping in for Season 10. So many people are heading back to Apex that it was the top trending game on Twitch during the first week of August 2021. It’s not just Sage and all the other new content bringing in players though — other games’ struggles are definitely playing a part. Warzone players escape to Apex Legends Apex Legends was the number 1 trending game on Twitch this week, with a 77% increase 📈 pic.twitter.com/vyVR7oVlp9 — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) August 8, 2021 The Season 10 Apex patch is definitely welcoming all of these players back in style, but it’s hard to attribute a 77% increase in hours watched to just that. Like we mentioned, massive names like NICKMERCS, TimTheTatman, Cloakzy, and more are all thriving after making the switch from Warzone to Apex. This mass exodus from Warzone is due in part to the rampant amount of cheaters that have been making themselves at home. But it’s also due to players getting tired of what seems like the same old gameplay round after round. For example, NICKMERCS was literally the #1 Warzone streamer in the world before making the switch. Now, he’s brought all his viewers over to watching Apex, which seems likely to be his new go-to for now. Hit Diamond on Apex Legends. Gonna grind to Apex Predator 100%. Looking for 2 demons to make the run with, gotta be ready to grind. — FaZe Nickmercs (@NICKMERCS) August 8, 2021 While disenchanted Warzone fans might make up the bulk of the new Apex refugees, they’re probably not the only ones. Overwatch players looking for something new while things seem to fall down around them could make up a good portion as well. Overwatch players making the switch to Apex? Overwatch hasn’t pulled in anywhere near the numbers of Warzone on Twitch for years. But, it’s another game that’s going through its fair share of issues. Now, to be fair Overwatch might not be getting infested by hackers like CoD’s battle royale. Though, the ongoing issues with Blizzard could be driving some to search for something new. On top of that, a recent rumor that Overwatch 2 could be getting delayed until 2023 could have disheartened even more, and driven them right into the arms of Apex as well.

  • Apex Legends Shatter Caps rework will actually make it useful in Season 12 – Dexerto

Apex Legends Shatter Caps rework will actually make it useful in Season 12 Respawn EntertainmentOne of Apex Legends least popular hop-ups, the Shatter Caps, is getting a much-needed rework in Season 12 – one that might actually encourage you to pick it up. Used with the 30-30 Repeated and the Bocek bow, the Shatter Caps hop-up was introduced in Season 10 to try to make these precision weapons more viable at close range. Currently, once the hop-up is applied, you are required to toggle between the modes. When enabled, Shatter Caps turn the projectiles into shotgun-like spreads, rather than a single shot. The idea is that with a spread pattern, you’ll be able to land shots more consistently at close range, while sacrificing some damage. However, most players would rather just switch to a close-range weapon like an SMG or shotgun instead. Shatter Caps rework in Season 12 To fix this, and make Shatter Caps fulfill its intended purpose, there will no longer be a toggle system to enable it. Instead, you will automatically switch to Shatter Caps mode when hip-firing, and return to normal, single-shot fire when aiming down the sights of the weapon. This means you won’t even have to think about, as up close, most players will switch to hip firing without even thinking, and as soon as you do so, Shatter Caps will be enabled. More weapon changes coming This is just one of many significant changes coming to weapons and attachments in Season 12, even without a whole new weapon being added. Also confirmed is the Volt replacing the Alternator in care packages, as well as the Flatline and Longbow being moved exclusively to Replicators – they will no longer be ground loot. Hammerpoint rounds are back too. The new hop-up this season is Kinetic Feeder. For the Peacekeeper and Triple Take, this will reload and reduce charging time when sliding. Respawn will also be making various buffs and nerfs to weapons, but we’ll have to wait for the full Season 12 patch notes for all the details.

  • Apex Legends Shadowfall LTM leaked: Night map survival mode – Dexerto

Apex Legends Shadowfall LTM leaked: Night map survival mode More details about the leaked Halloween event in Apex Legends has been revealed following the Season 3 update, including a first look at a new LTM (limited-time mode) called ‘Shadowfall’, set on a night map. Descriptions for the Shadowfall mode have been found in the game files by data miners, believed to be part of the Halloween event called ‘Fight or Fright’, presumably coming later in October. The mode will see players drop in solo, but when they are eliminated, they will join the “Shadow Squad” – a growing team who can attack living players with melee attacks. A night version of Kings Canyon The leaked files appear to confirm that Kings Canyon will be used for the Shadowfall mode, with the description stating: “For a limited time, a warped version of the Apex games will be hosted at night in an abandoned Kings Canyon.” The host of these mysterious games is known only as “the Revenant”. The description of the mode in the leaked game files, courtesy of @That1MiningGuy, explains how it will work: “Solo Legends fight to the death but with a dark twist – when Legends die, they are reborn on the “Shadow Squad”, an ever-growing faction of dark Legends who return from the dead to haunt their living counterparts with increased mobility and brutal melee attacks. The last 10 Living Legends will join forces to try to escape while the Shadow Squad attempts to stop them at all costs.” One of the halloween modes. pic.twitter.com/KUZRNtIuWh — That1MiningGuy (@That1MiningGuy) October 1, 2019 There is also mention of an Evac Ship in the leaked files, which is presumably how the 10 surviving legends will escape. A first teaser of the mode was also found in a leaked video file by leaker @RealApexLeaks, which shows the shadow squad legends running incredibly fast, and a demonic version of the Leviathans. A short clip was found within the game files. It’s the only video so far on the new gamemode or map.#ApexLegends #Apex #ApexLegendsleaks #Apexleaks #ApexLegendsseason3 #Apexlegendsclips #Apexclips #Apexlegendsnews pic.twitter.com/lYvES5gkMP — RealApexLeaks – SirRomey (@RealApexLeaks) October 2, 2019 Although there’s no official release date for this event yet, it will presumably drop either just before Halloween, or on the day itself, and hopefully run into the start of November. It’s worth noting that the event itself hasn’t been confirmed yet, and these leaked game files are subject to change in development.

  • Apex Legends Shadowfall leak reveals chilling dialogue for Revenant – Dexerto

Apex Legends Shadowfall leak reveals chilling dialogue for Revenant Respawn EntertainmentA new leak for Apex Legends’ Shadowfall LTM gives players a peek into upcoming character Revenant, and their role in the Halloween event. While the Apex community has just begun exploring all of Season 3’s new offerings in the Meltdown event, the Respawn Entertainment devs are already well on their way to deliver another action-packed chapter for their battle royale. Numerous leaks point to a holiday-themed LTM coming to Kings Canyon – the featured map from Season 1 and 2. But the Halloween event could also include previously leaked character Revenant being introduced to the game, initially as an announcer for the special mode. Discovered by data-miner ‘Shrugtal,’ a ton of Revenant sound files for the game reveals harrowing voice lines for the upcoming Legend. Files for the announcer cover various in-game scenarios such as the ring moving, different stages for the ring, changes in kill leader, first blood, Legends becoming Shadows upon death, and more. While Respawn just added Crypto to the roster, it seems like the Halloween LTM will be used to simply introduce Revenant, while possibly bringing him to the character select screen down the line. Even without being formally revealed to be a playable character, there are already a ton of voice lines recorded for the leaked Legend. As a reminder, leaks suggest the Shadowfall LTM will release alongside Apex Legends’ Halloween event. The special playlist will be a solo 60-player mode in which fallen players will join the ranks of the ‘Shadow Squad.’ Piecing evidence in the leaks together, the final 10 Legends will try to escape the map on an Evac Ship, kind of reminiscent to survivors high-tailing it out of a map in Dead by Daylight to secure the win. For the Shadow Squad to win, they’ll have to prevent the “Skinbags,” as Revenant calls players in the leaked audio files, from escaping to earn a victory for the dark army. It sounds like the upcoming LTM is the Apex devs’ way of bringing zombies to the battle royale just in time for the spooky Halloween season.

  • Apex Legends Shadow Royale 2021: When is the LTM coming back? – Dexerto

Apex Legends Shadow Royale 2021: When is the LTM coming back? Respawn EntertainmentNow that spooky season has begun in Apex Legends, when can we expect the fan-favorite Shadow Royale LTM to return? If there’s one month in the Apex Legends content calendar that gets players excited, it’s October, and this year is no different. With the Monsters Within Halloween event kicking off on October 12, the community has been enjoying completing challenges, collecting scary cosmetics, and jumping into the new ‘Encore’ Arenas map. However, despite all of these incredible additions, the beginning of the event is missing the Shadow Royale LTM that is immensely popular among players. While the mode isn’t available at the beginning of Monsters Within, we do know when it will arrive – and there isn’t too long to wait. When is Shadow Royale coming back to Apex Legends? The Shadow Royale LTM will go live in Apex Legends on October 26, 2021, and will be available to play until November 2, 2021. As this year’s Monsters Within update has arrived a week earlier than the previous year’s Fight or Fright Halloween event, the addition of Shadow Royale has been delayed slightly. Instead of adding the LTM into the game as soon as the patch rolled out, Respawn is holding back the LTM until the final week of the event. It’s worth noting that there are already daily challenges in-game requiring players to complete objectives in the LTM, but they are impossible to complete before Shadow Royale arrives. Despite Respawn confirming that Shadow Royale will arrive later on in the Monsters Within event, some players are disappointed they can’t jump into the LTM sooner. It’s obvious the devs want to keep the mode exclusive by limiting its availability to a week. While this will be frustrating for some, it’s important to make the most of the LTM while it lasts and complete all of the objectives before it’s removed for another year. Don’t forget to check out @alphaINTEL for all the latest Apex Legends news and guides.

  • Apex Legends servers down: Unable to connect to Apex servers worldwide – Dexerto

Apex Legends servers down: Unable to connect to Apex servers worldwide Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends servers are having another major outage on December 20, with players around the world unable to connect to the popular battle royale. Developers Respawn Entertainment have acknowledged the issues. Season 11 rolls on in Apex Legends, with the Raiders Collection event recently hitting live servers ahead of the battle royale’s Christmas celebrations, which include new cosmetics, a Wattson heirloom, and the Winter Express limited-time mode. Unfortunately, celebrations have ground to a halt on December 20, with Apex Legends servers going down for millions of players across the globe. Apex Legends Server status Despite EA Help displaying Apex’s server status as all green, players around the world are reporting to Dexerto and across social media that they are unable to get past the main menu screen, which is riddled with user errors. These include all the classics, from Leaf and Wheel to CE-34878-0. The December 20 issues haven’t been contained to one console either; PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC players on both Steam and Origin are all affected. At 6.55pm ET, battle royale devs Respawn Entertainment confirmed they were investigating network outages affecting players in all regions. They wrote, in reply to one worried Apex Legends player’s alert on Twitter: “We’re looking into this! Thanks for letting us know.” This widespread outage follows a hack on the Apex Legends playlists earlier this year, where players were unable to queue for any playlist. Instead, a hacker changed the name of the playlist to ‘Save Titanfall’.

  • Apex Legends servers down? Players report outages on May 26 – Dexerto

Apex Legends servers down? Players report outages on May 26 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have reported another major server outage on May 26, as connection issues have cropped up on PS4, Xbox One and PC. There have already been a handful of outages since the launch of Season 5 on May 12, which have resulted in long waiting times to get into matches, or being stuck at the main menu, unable to search for a game at all. Affected areas include major cities across the United States and various European countries, including England, France, Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands. These issues began in the morning in the United States and early evening in Europe, around 10 AM PT / 6 PM BST. This is a similar time to the previous major outage on May 12. Most players are experiencing problems with server connection, meaning it could be a widespread problem with EA servers. The official Apex Legends status page on the EA Help website hasn’t updated to indicate that there are any issues, so we’re still waiting to hear from EA or Respawn Entertainment regarding these connectivity problems. Typically, the server crashes will last no longer than an hour or so, so if you’re waiting to play a few games, just sit tight, as the fix is usually pretty fast. The server outage happened almost exactly when the new Pathfinder Edition bundle was made available on all platforms, but this is most likely just a coincidence. EA Help haven’t yet acknowledged the server issues, but we will update you as soon as progress is made.

  • Apex Legends server issues persist despite Respawn update – Dexerto

Apex Legends server issues persist despite Respawn update Respawn EntertainmentIt seems Apex Legends’ servers are still experiencing issues despite Respawn’s attempts to fix them and players are not happy. As with any massive online multiplayer game, there are bound to be server issues that impact the experience for portions of the and Apex Legends is no exception. Recently, Apex Legends players reported outages and server problems, leading to developer Respawn Entertainment pushing out a fix to resolve things and get players back into the Battle Royale. Unfortunately, it seems widespread connection issues have once again cropped up despite Respawn’s attempts to fix the issue, leading to many players expressing their frustration on social media. Apex Legends experiencing server issues once again On January 17, 2023, players took to social media platforms like Reddit and Twitter to check to see if other members of the community were experiencing server issues. Multiple threads on the Apex Legends subreddit have gained traction as fans began to share their frustrations with the ongoing connectivity problems. “Stuck on matchmaking for 8 minutes…just me?” asked one fan, whose post gained nearly 200 comments from other players who shared their experience. “Same here on PS5. Just stuck on “matchmaking” for ages and nothing is happening. Now we can’t even have a rank split without issues smh…” It seems regardless of platform or region, players have dealt with indefinite wait times and extremely laggy matches. On top of that, the problems persisted to the following day, with no sign of letting up. Apex Legends player Whos_Neg posted a clip on Twitter that showed the extent of the server problems. Even after getting into a match, the game’s speed was incredibly slow and jittery. At the time of writing, Respawn has yet to publicly acknowledge the ongoing issues, so it’s unclear whether or not a fix is on the way. For now, it seems all players can do is wait until Apex’s servers are back to normal.

  • Apex Legends server error is costing players skins & heirlooms from packs – Dexerto

Apex Legends server error is costing players skins & heirlooms from packs Respawn EntertainmentA major Apex Legends server error is deleting any cosmetics obtained in packs, with one player missing out on their Heirloom shards. Cosmetics are a huge aspect of Apex Legends and are the primary way that Respawn brings in revenue from players, so a lot of effort goes into creating incredible designs. While players can save up crafting metals to unlock specific skins from the menus, Heirlooms and limited-time cosmetics are only available through buying packs. So, when an error triggered by opening packs is deleting the rewards obtained by players, it’s safe to say the devs have a serious issue on their hands. Well, that’s exactly what’s started happening on June 17 and one unlucky player even experienced the bug just after receiving a set of Heirloom shards. Apex Legends bug is canceling rewards from packs Shortly after the Awakening Collection Event announcement, the community started experiencing an error message that pops up as soon as a pack is opened. Reporting that “some items in the Apex pack have not been authored in-game yet,” the error seems to indicate that the items in the pack are not meant to be in the cosmetic pool just yet. Unfortunately, this is leading to some players losing out on the skins and items in their packs, with one extremely unlucky Reddit user revealing that they’d lost their Heirloom shards. At a 1 in 500 chance in packs, a lot of day one players have only received a single Heirloom despite putting thousands of hours into Apex. Luckily, a dev quickly came to the rescue and asked the player to “DM them”, so hopefully a new set of Heirloom shards will be added to their account. This reply also confirms that Respawn is aware of the problem and is no doubt working on a fix, but it’s hard to know how long it will take before the error is resolved. For the time being, it’s probably best to hold onto your packs until the glitch has been patched, as you don’t want any precious Heirloom shards to go to waste.

  • Apex Legends sequence perfectly shows why Mirage’s Ultimate needs a buff – Dexerto

Apex Legends sequence perfectly shows why Mirage’s Ultimate needs a buff Mirage’s Ultimate Ability often comes under criticism among most Apex Legends players, and a recent post on Reddit offers a perfect example for why it needs a boost. Mirage is a Legend who’s set of abilities is based on deception and misdirection. His Ultimate Ability, called Vanishing Act, causes the Legend to spawn four decoys around him while the actual character himself goes invisible. At first, this may seem like a powerful ability, but most players have realized that its pretty useless. Since the Mirage becomes invisible when using his Ult, all of the decoy Mirages on the screen are non-threats, so players can simply ignore them and just wait for the real Legend to show himself. A good example of this can be seen in Reddit user Pilavboy’s clip below, which really shows why the Mirage’s Ult is simply not a viable option against good players. The clip above shows a situation very close to the end of the match when the player was chasing the last remaining opponent, who was playing as the Mirage. Despite seeing the enemy uses his Ultimate Ability, the player completely ignores the decoys and continues to chase the Mirage, eventually catching up to him and kicking him to death, despite the fact that he was still invisible. The sequence perfectly demonstrates that neither the decoys nor the invisibility aspect of the Ult did anything to protect the Mirage from his eventual death. The chuckle that the player lets out after getting the game-winning kill pretty much sums it up for any player faced with Mirage’s Ult. While there’s no doubting the weakness of Mirage’s Ult, the larger question remains about how it can be appropriately buffed to the point where it can rival the powerful abilities of the more popular Legends. One Reddit user has proposed a creative idea which would remove the invisibility aspect of the Ult, forcing enemies to have to figure out which of the five Mirages was the real one. Another concept suggests that decoys be spawned not only for the Mirage, but also his teammates, making that aspect of the Ult also a lot more powerful. Either way, Respawn can’t ignore this kind of widespread feedback for too much longer, and it seems that they’ll have to boost up Mirage sooner rather than later.

  • Apex Legends September 22 patch notes: Crash errors, Sheila infinite ammo fix – Dexerto

Apex Legends September 22 patch notes: Crash errors, Sheila infinite ammo fix Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends’ awaited hotfix for the Season 10 server issues is finally here. The update will hopefully stop to the crashes players have been experiencing since the Evolution Collection event. Since the launch of the Evolution Collection event, Apex Legends has been down more than it’s been up. Players have struggled to access the new content due to spotty servers, and while work-arounds have been shared, a proper fix is finally on its way. Apex Legends’ September 22 patch addresses the issues with games crashing from the moment you boot up the client. Apex Legends September 22 update attempts to fix crashes “We’re still continuing to work through issues causing higher-than-normal crashes, and we have hope that our patch scheduled for Wednesday will help,” Respawn said on September 20. Respawn dropped an update on that Monday to try and address some of the original “teleporting, packet loss, and lag” problems. While the original patch made progress, it hasn’t changed things for everyone. Respawn has recommended players unequip “animated banner poses”, as these increase the likelihood of games crashing and servers lagging. We’ve just shipped a client-side patch for @playapex which fixes numerous bugs, including some that can cause crashes and disconnects. See the full list below. We’re also aware that there are still reports of slo-mo servers, and are looking into it! pic.twitter.com/5Ruc9soJD8 — Respawn (@Respawn) September 22, 2021 There’s no balance changes per se in the update: The recent Evolution Collection patch added its own buffs and nerfs to Legends with some much needed Rampart balance changes. However, there’s some bug fixes for Rampart and Private Matches, one of which removes an infinite ammo exploit for Sheila. While it’s not the biggest patch notes this season, if the fix works, Apex Legends players should be thrilled to see the game’s servers in a healthier state. You can find the full patch notes below. Apex Legends September 22 patch notes General bug fixes Fixed a crashing error sometimes caused by equipping animated banner poses – Fixed an error with using a Crafting replicator (“PopLockFOV called more often than PushLockFOV”) – Fixed being unable to hold to swap from an equipped Red Evo armor to a Gold Armor, if Red Evo armor had more health – Fixed an exploit that allowed Pathfinder to melee far faster than intended – Fixed Pathfinder Emote “Old Bot, New Trick” using the wrong icon – Switch: Fixed “Press Left Stick to toggle Zoom” message diplsaying in the middle of the weapon sight – Fixed Bangalore’s “Solar Soldier” skin obscuring the screen while ADSing while holding down her tactical ability – Misc stability fixes, including fixing some errors that can cause disconnections – Rampart Fixed being able to regenerate ammo for Sheila be meleeing – Fixed players being able to reduce Sheila’s bullet spread by crouching – Added transition animations for Rampart’s heirloom when the weapon is inspected while Rampart is sprinting – Stability fixes – Private Matches Fixed players not receiving updated lobby settings when finishing a previous Private Match – Fixed an error in Arenas that occurred when attempting to open the map – Fixed players not showing up correctly in pre-match Team UI –

  • Apex Legends September 10 update fixes game-breaking bugs: Patch notes – Dexerto

Apex Legends September 10 update fixes game-breaking bugs: Patch notes Respawn EntertainmentRespawn are releasing a new patch for Apex Legends, targeting multiple bugs that affect Wraith’s Portals, reconnect issues, Knockedown shields not performing to task and more. The developers are touching on a few areas of Apex that the community has spotlighted in the last several weeks. Wraith’s Portals have been disappearing around the Arena, with the devs noticing that sometimes the ability could get ‘eaten’ throughout the map. Meanwhile, Knockdown Shields have been letting bullets pass right through them, rendering the last-line of defense ineffective when players are trying to stay alive long enough to get revived. These changes are going to hopefully stabilize some of the more pressing issues that Apex Legends players have been coming across lately. Ring Logic is getting smarter Among some of the more pressing issues within the battle royale, one change that players are going to enjoy is an apparent fix to the ‘Ring logic.’ This pertains to the wonky ring locations that would make the final rounds nearly unplayable. For the most crucial instances, this would lead to game-breaking situations where, for example, a Ring would barely have enough room to fit a team since it would mostly be filled with unplayable areas of the map. This would obviously have in-game implications for teams trying to fight over any kind of reasonable position in the waning moments of a game. But with a better algorithm to scope out the next Ring, these problems should be smoothed over. Disappearing Wraith Portals Wraith mains have been playing with extreme caution in regards to placing portals on the Arena. There’s been recurring reports of the Interdimensional Rifts disappearing from the Apex Games shortly after being placed. We’ve seen this affect players who tried to use the ability to get away from danger only to have the Portals go awry, leaving them open and vulnerable to flurries of gunfire. Obviously, this throws a major wrench in Wraith’s ability kit and usage. And as far and few between it would be for the bug to appear, the devs have sorted the issue all the same. Knockdown Shields bug fix Following the August 20 patch, players found that the Knockdown Shields were compromised in some cases, letting bullets hit the downed target even though the barrier was raised. As an item whose sole purpose is to prevent players from getting instantly thirsty, this was frustrating many who had come across the glitch. Luckily, this problem is going to get resolved with the upcoming patch. The devs had their eye on this problem for a little while now and are prepared to get a fix to the Knockdown Shields. Take a look at the changelist below to see what’s coming in the September 10 patch from Respawn Entertainment. Apex Legends September 10 patch notes Improvements to Reconnect – Wraith portals disappearing if place in certain areas – Knockdown shields not blocking shots – Beacons showing up in minimap but not in-world – Improved Ring logic – Several game logic errors –

  • Apex Legends Sept 6 update patch notes: Fixes for Seer, Revenant & Vantage – Dexerto

Apex Legends Sept 6 update patch notes: Fixes for Seer, Revenant & Vantage Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment has rolled out a new Apex Legends update on September 6 and here are the full patch notes, including fixes for Seer, Revenant, and Vantage. Numerous bugs are still being unearthed in Season 13, many of which have been flagged by the community for the dev team to address in future updates. These have included game-crashing glitches, when Seer and Mirage combine, as well as negative challenge values appearing in the match summary for players. A total of four changes were rolled out as part of the September 6 update to Apex Legends, as confirmed by the game’s developers on Twitter. They said: “Don’t mind us, just some quick Apex fixes that went live.” So – what’s changed this time? Apex Legends September 6 update: full patch notes The full patch notes can be found below, including fixes for the following things in-game: Game crashing after Seer’s heartbeat detects Mirage decoy – Death Totem not working on Dropoff in Arenas – Vantage voice lines stacking up in certain gameplay instances – Negative challenge values in match summary – That should put many minds at ease, especially those affected by the bugs stated in the notes above. • Apex Legends’ Sentinel sniper is bugged and it’s making players “go crazy” – Dexerto

Apex Legends’ Sentinel sniper is bugged and it’s making players “go crazy” Respawn / EAApex Legends fans have noticed the bolt-action Sentinel sniper rifle’s recharge timer is broken, and it’s making players go crazy. There’s a lot of content in Apex Legends, and sometimes the devs can overlook certain aspects of the game – which leads to bugs, exploits, and a lot of balancing changes needed. While it’s not completely game-breaking, Apex Legends players have noticed that the popular and unique bolt-action Sentinel sniper rifle’s recharge timer is broken – and it’s seriously confusing. A Reddit thread from Apex Legends player dj_b2 on January 2 first pointed out that the Sentinel charge timer is broken, and pleaded to the devs to fix it. The unique rifle has a recharge time of five seconds, which has a countdown in the bottom right corner when recharging. However, as demonstrated in dj_b2’s video, it takes more time after it reaches zero to charge properly. “Can they fix the Sentinel charge soon,” dj_b2 asked. “Why even have a timer if it takes more time after it reaches 0 and the bar has been filled?” Other Apex Legends fans seemed to have noticed it themselves as well and were relieved to find out they weren’t going crazy. “I really thought I was just an idiot. Glad I’m not going crazy here,” said one player. It seems the Sentinel rifle isn’t the only weapon to have the issue, as the Rampage LMG supposedly has the same problem. “Same thing happening with the rampage, that sh*t is annoying as hell,” claimed one player. However, the Rampage timer issues aren’t as noticeable as the Sentinel according to mikah42106: “Rampage is much less noticeable thankfully, but still bothersome.” With multiple complaints from players, it’s likely that the Respawn devs will investigate and look to fix the timer issues.

  • Apex Legends bug is terrifying all Legends using a Sentinel – Dexerto

Apex Legends bug is terrifying all Legends using a Sentinel Electronic ArtsApex Legends users who pick up Sentinel sniper rifles have noticed a rather frightening bug involving Vantage’s pet bat, Echo. Vantage joined the Apex Legends roster at the start of Season 14, bringing along various sharpshooting abilities for players who prefer to operate from a distance. The new Legends came with a sidekick, too, a small bat who benefits Vantage but can cause quite a few problems for everyone else. A number of said problems come courtesy of glitches that give the newer hero an unfair advantage on the battlefield. Now another strange bug has Echo wreaking havoc without Vantage reaping the rewards. Echo glitch scares Apex Legends players picking up Sentinels On some occasions, Vantage will retrieve a Sentinel sniper rifle from the ground, resulting in an animation that sees Echo jump on the barrel. It’s a cute gesture that further accentuates their bond. Not all players find the action adorable, however. While playing as Wraith, Reddit user ElderShrek grabbed a Sentinel and tried going on about their business. Echo hopped onto the gun, though, stopping the player in their tracks for a time. In sharing a gameplay clip of the moment online, ElderShrek said the unexpected animation startled them a bit. Several other Apex veterans were quick to note that Echo’s appearance in the above video is indeed a glitch. The Echo-centric Sentinel pickup should only work for Apex Legends users playing as Vantage, according to sus0753 and just_Ollie. Presumably, the issue will eventually receive a fix, though it doesn’t seem Respawn Entertainment has addressed the problem as of yet. As such, even non-Vantage players should keep an eye out for the Echo pickup animation when retrieving a Sentinel. This especially holds true for those who may consider the bat’s unexpected appearance as somewhat of a jumpscare.

  • How to master the Sentinel in Apex Legends: tips, damage stats & DPS – Dexerto

How to master the Sentinel in Apex Legends: tips, damage stats & DPS Respawn Entertainment / DexertoThe Sentinel in Apex Legends can pack a big punch with his unique “Amped” mechanic. Fighting around this, and knowing how to abuse it, is your key to mastering this gun. We’ve got all the tips you need to know to make it a piece of cake. The Sentinel in Apex Legends hits hard when it comes down to it, but the sniper rifle does suffer from a low rate of fire. Nevertheless, if you can connect your shots, your team will be thankful for the assist from afar. If you’re struggling to control the sniper and need a hand, we’ve got you covered, with a guide to all the Sentinel tips and tricks you need to know in Apex Legends. Apex Legends Sentinel damage stats There’s two sets of damage stats you need to be wary of about the Sentinel — its Amped damage, and its base damage. Ideally, you’ll be charging up your Sentinel with a couple of shield cells before a major fight and firing off your eight charged shots. The 25% damage increase is huge. Read More: Best guns in Apex Legends – However, if you get caught in a pinch, it can still dish out a decent amount of damage. You might be better off swapping to your secondary though, as the Sentinel really doesn’t deal well with getting caught by surprise. Here’s a breakdown of the Sentinel’s damage stats: Sentinel attachments The Sentinel has pretty bare bones attachments, which makes it pretty easy to hunt down. When it comes down to magazines and stocks, the rarer, the better: aim for that Gold mag and that Purple stock to really level up your Sentinel. For scopes, the longer, the better. Given the Sentinel has a fast projectile speed, you don’t really need to consider bullet drop as much as other snipers. Banging on a 4x-8x — or if you’re lucky, a 4x-10x Digital Threat — is the best thing you could do. You can find a full list of Sentinel attachments here: Extended Sniper Magazine Common: 5 bullets – Rare: 6 bullets – Epic: 7 bullets – Legendary: 7 bullets – Sniper Stock Common: – Rare: – Epic: – Optics 1x Holo – 1x HCOG “Classic” – 2x HCOG “Bruiser” – 1x-2x Variable Holo – 3x HCOG “Ranger” – 2x-4x Variable AOG – 4x-8x Variable Sniper – 4x-10x Digital Sniper Threat – Don’t forget to charge your Sentinel It’s easy to forget, but you need to manually charge your Sentinel with two Shield cells to get it amped. The 25% bonus damage is no joke, making it hit hard on body shots, and even harder on headshots. The Sentinel, while uncharged, is very weak. Yes, it has a few perks, like the high projectile speed we mentioned above, but if it’s not dealing sufficient DPS, you may as well swap for a Charge Rifle, Longbow, or ditch the Sniper completely. Aim for the head — it’s so key Yes, okay, this sounds a bit ridiculous, but it needs to be said. Hitting headshots in Apex Legends can be hard. Snipers like the Sentinel make it easier. However, it’s especially key with this one, because of just how much of a punch it packs. The Sentinel is a one-shot headshot on some targets, especially low-profile legends. However, it can take up to three body shots to down an enemy. Given its slow rate of fire, you’ll want to dome your enemies if you can. Read More: The best Legends to use in Apex Legends – Obviously, if you can’t reliably hit the head, aiming for the body is fine, especially while the gun isn’t amped (headshots aren’t one-shot downs for the most part). However, if you have it amped and hit a headshot, your enemies will melt like a hot knife through butter. Plus, if you hit the headshot, you can then use a secondary firearm — anything automatic will do, like a R-99 — to mop up the mess. It’s also handy to have in case you get caught by surprise.

  • Apex Legends Sentinel buff accidentally gives it infinite charge with Gold Shield – Dexerto

Apex Legends Sentinel buff accidentally gives it infinite charge with Gold Shield Respawn EntertainmentIn the Spellbound Collection Event update, the Sentinel sniper rifle in Apex Legends was given a significant buff – but Respawn may have actually buffed the weapon far more than they intended, effectively giving it infinite charge. Spellbound is the second collection event of Season 15, with the headline additions being Seer’s heirloom and the addition of custom matches for all. But the update also brought a series of weapon buffs and nerfs, including to the Prowler and Sentinel. While the Prowler may now be one of the most underrated SMGs in the game, the Sentinel is definitely getting the recognition it deserves. Although, this is probably because of a mistake developers made in the patch. Sentinel gets infinite charge in Apex Legends – with a catch Before the update, the Sentinel required two shield cells from our inventory to fully charge up and deal increased damage. However, the update reduced this to only one shield, to encourage more people to run the Sentinel. The thing is, the gold body shield in Apex already reduced the cells required to one, and this might have slipped the devs’ minds. It means that now, if you have a gold body shield, the Sentinel literally requires no shield cells at all to charge up. You can simply charge it over and over without ever worrying about running out of cells. It’s likely that this is just a slight tweak to the code required to fix this bug – assuming that it is a bug. If it is a bug, then the gold shield will probably lose its little extra feature with the Sentinel, and return to normal, simply requiring one shield cell to charge it up. In the meantime though, if you ever land upon a gold shield in-game, make sure to pair it up with the Sentinel too.

  • Apex Legends Seer short teases two possible locations for Season 14 new map – Dexerto

Apex Legends Seer short teases two possible locations for Season 14 new map Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment released a new short featuring Seer that may serve as a teaser for the next map in Apex Legends, possibly derived from Ambush Artist’s past. The video marked the return of Outlands TV’s Lisa Stone, after her tragic interview with Forge, and she really grilled Seer on the events that happened to his home world of Boreas shortly after he was born. Since Apex’s release, Respawn has been very loyal to the game’s lore and have incorporated teasers, in-game missions, and more to explore the stories of their main cast of characters. As such, the studio chose to highlight the grim outlook at Boreas and Seer’s apparent connection to its current situation. It’s not a reach to say that this could be the devs hinting at where the Apex Games could go next. If that were to be the case, Respawn could be teasing either Seer’s homeworld of Boreas or its shattered moon, Cleo, as the location of the next Apex map. Previous leaks gave Apex players a glimpse of a ‘Divided Moon’ map that showed a large playing field suited for the battle royale rather than an Arena locale. The Seer ‘interview’ prominently showed an image of the broken moon over Boreas, something that is quite visible on the Apex Arena map, Encore. Leaked video of the Divided Moon map shows a fragmented land with debris above and a planet in the background. That could mean that the map is on Cleo, but we’ll have to wait and see what Respawn says. The new map could be on the way as soon as Season 14 or in time for Apex Legends’ Season 15. It would be the game’s fifth map overall for the battle royale mode, after Storm Point’s release in Season 11. In any case, we’ll be sure to monitor any more news from Respawn as we prepare for Season 14 in early August.

  • Apex Legends secretly nerfs Horizon’s Gravity Lift – Dexerto

Apex Legends secretly nerfs Horizon’s Gravity Lift Respawn EntertainmentPopular legend Horizon appears to have received an under-the-radar nerf in Apex Legends, with players realizing her Gravity Lift Tactical is far from as strong as it was before the Spellbound event update. The Apex Legends Spellbound Collection Event dropped in-game on January 10. Among other things, it brought Seer’s Heirloom into the Apex Games, alongside heavily requested Private Matches. It also had some unintended consequences, with the devs forced to address server issues late on the day of its release. While Respawn did release detailed patch notes for the update, it seems that not everything was included. Specifically, a much-requested Horizon nerf appears to have made its way into the game, despite not being mentioned in the update’s notes. Secret Horizon nerf Sharing a clip to his Twitter on January 10, Apex Legends pro HisWattson highlighted the changes to Horizon, specifically affecting her Gravity Lift tactical. Where Horizon previously experienced no accuracy penalty while using her Gravity Lift, bullets fire far less accurately now when she is hovering. He jokingly captioned his tweet: “Horizon is dead.” While players have been vocal in their demands for a Horizon nerf, complaints have centered on the lack of audio that accompanies her abilities. The accuracy-based nerf brings her more in line with other legends, like Octane, who already receive penalties to their shots when using their abilities (in Octane’s case, his Jump Pad Ultimate). Some were frustrated that such a major legend balancing was absent from the event’s patch notes. Others, though, welcomed the changes and argued Horizon will be better balanced moving forwards as a result. Respawn, amid doubt over whether the changes were intentional or not, have not publicly addressed the Horizon nerf yet.

  • Apex Legends: Secret tip makes Caustic’s gas traps even more annoying – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Secret tip makes Caustic’s gas traps even more annoying Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Caustic players can get a whole lot more annoying once they all realize they can drop their traps through cracks, allowing them to hide their traps much better than before. Caustic is generally considered one of the worst characters in the game, but with his ability to create gas rooms where he traps players in until they die, he has seen new life as becoming an annoyance. Everyone knows how Caustic is able to get enemy players trapped in rooms with his traps but this new tip will make his traps much more effective, and much more annoying for other players. The one problem with Caustic’s traps is they are huge so if there’s already one set up, you can avoid them quite easily. However, if you are able to drop one through a crack into an area you didn’t know existed, then problems can arise. One Reddit user showed exactly how effective that could be. You can put a trap where? Reddit user 107azure pointed out you can drop a trap between cracks, showing how the trap could be hidden away behind a fence. It would be very hard to notice this trap placement before it’s too late, making it an extremely effective spot. Unfortunately, you can’t trap anybody in a room like this so it’ll only be able to tick away a small chunk of health unless a fight takes place in the gas. This tip will likely act more as an annoyance than something you rely on for kills. His gas trap rooms will definitely be the more effective strategy in terms of kills but slipping a trap in a crack will allow you to get an early edge during a fight. Realistically, this doesn’t make Caustic any better but it does give you more options.

  • Apex Legends secret room on Kings Canyon is the ultimate rat spot – Dexerto

Apex Legends secret room on Kings Canyon is the ultimate rat spot RespawnA secret room rat spot on Apex Legends’ Kings Canyon map is giving Loba mains a sneaky advantage over their foes. Kings Canyon may be the oldest map in Apex Legends, but players are still learning about OP rat spots. Well, this particular location can give Loba mains a huge edge over their foes, particularly in the game’s final ring. Not only can utilizing this secret room help players hide from enemy players, but it can also lead to some incredibly easy kills. While Respawn often patches the more notorious glitch spots, there are a few that slip through. Well, this secret Kings Canyon room is one of them and it can give Loba mains an upper hand. Here’s how you can utilize this trick yourself and avoid those abusing it. Apex Legends secret Kings Canyon room Whether you’re looking to sneakily third party your foes or just need a bit of respite to heal, then this Kings Canyon secret room enables you to do both. In fact, Apex Legends YouTuber, Skeptation, recently showcased how players can hide in one of the rooms in Market. Read More: Who is Newcastle in Apex Legends? – In order to utilize this spot, simply head over to the room that has “Information” written on it. After climbing up the stairs, you should notice that the door to the room has been covered with metal fencing. While the room may seem inaccessible at a first glance, it can actually be entered by using Loba’s bracelet. If you move round to the side of the fence, you’ll see there is a small gap in the fence. Throw Loba’s bracelet through the gap and you’ll be able to teleport into the room. Skeptation notes that players who use this spot will be unkillable as long you sit in the back corner. If this location wasn’t powerful enough, Loba mains can also fire out of the metal fence and even eliminate players that walk past. To get out of the secret room, simply throw Loba bracelet back through the gap. Whether Respawn will patch this secret rat spot remains to be seen, but make sure you take extra precautions when fighting in Market.

  • Apex Legends: Secret reload animations discovered – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Secret reload animations discovered Respawn/YouTube/NebulaIt appears that secret reload animations have been discovered in Apex Legends, but no-one is quite sure how they are triggered. Respawn Entertainment’s first person battle royale has taken the gaming community by storm since its February release, hitting 50 million players faster than Fortnite did. However, it has not been without its fair share of issues, with many users complaining about cheaters and unexplained crashes. This hasn’t stopped overwhelmingly positive community feedback though, and now, eagle-eyed gamers have found what appears to be mystery reload animations in the game. First brought to the community’s attention after a Reddit post from user ‘DuhSheet’ surfaced, the clip shows a previously unknown reload animation when using the G7. Although it’s not certain, the animation is thought to be triggered when the entire ammunition clip is emptied before a reload. This then sees the empty ammo clip released from the top of the gun and replaced from above, rather than the normal animation which can be seen after. It is not completely known what triggers this animation because, as is seen in the clip, the user goes on to fire the entire clip again without hesitation, and the regular reload animation is triggered. Titanfall 2 players immediately recognized this reload animation as an easter egg from that game’s G2A5 Battle Rifle, from which the G7 Scout is inspired. This is supplemented by another clip, this time provided by Reddit user ‘PSN-xsXex’, in which an impressive Peacekeeper play shows another reload animation for the shotgun. In this instance, it appears to be triggered by the in-game character having only one hand free, which results in a reload with a flourish. The two recent discoveries have got players speculating how many more hidden reload animations there are in Apex Legends, and how they are triggered.

  • Apex Legends Season 16 Ranked: Maps, Split 2 date, changes – Dexerto

Apex Legends Season 16 Ranked: Maps, Split 2 date, changes Respawn EntertainmentSeason 16 is almost halfway done in Apex Legends, which means a new Ranked split is now live. Here are the maps for Ranked in Season 16, with Split 2 now underway. Apex Legends Season 16 didn’t add a new Legend this time around, instead opting for balancing changes to the existing Legends. Ranked didn’t see many changes either, except a big shake-up to how map rotation works. While Season 16 still features a familiar split structure, where players will see their rank reset, maps will no longer change at the split. Here’s everything you need to know, and what to expect from the rank reset. When is ranked split 2 in Apex Legends Season 15? The second Ranked split in Season 16 started on Tuesday, April 4. This means that the first Ranked split was fairly short, at only 48 days total. This could be direct feedback from last season’s very long first split, as Respawn assured players that it won’t be this long again in future. In Apex Legends’ ranked mode, players’ ranks are reset at the start of each new season, as well as at the beginning of the second split. However, in Split 2, your rank will only be reset by 1 rank (four divisions), rather than 1.5 (or six divisions) as it was previously. At the start of the next season, you will be granted rewards based on your highest ranking across both splits. Season 16 ranked maps The ranked maps for Season 16 are Broken Moon, Storm Point – and now Olympus. Olympus was added surprisingly on March 28, with the Sun Squad Collection Event. But, it means World’s Edge is moved out of rotation. In Season 16, the maps for ranked will rotate every 24 hours. This is a brand new change for this season, as previously the map would only change when the new split began. Now, this change means you won’t be stuck on one map for the whole split, and have some variety. Unfortunately, it does mean that Kings Canyon and World’s Edge fans will have to wait. Season 16 Ranked changes In Season 16, there were very limited changes to the Ranked mode, with the only big difference being the new system for map rotations every 24 hours. Players were disappointed not to see more significant changes to ranked play, but it looks like we’ll have to wait until Season 17 for that. Respawn has said more ranked changes are coming this year.

  • Apex Legends Season 9 will have “a ton” of Titanfall content – Dexerto

Apex Legends Season 9 will have “a ton” of Titanfall content Respawn EntertainmentRespawn devs have revealed in a new stream that Apex Legends Season 9 will include “a ton” of content from its spiritual predecessor, Titanfall. The wild sci-fi shooter series Titanfall is fondly remembered by FPS fans, and if you’ve played it, then the similarities are easy to spot hopping into a round of Apex Legends. Both the battle royale and the FPS are made by Respawn and set in the same universe. But, according to developers Apex is about to get much more content than ever before from Titanfall coming up in Season 9. During a panel featuring a number of Respawn devs hosted by BrownGirlGamerCode, Apex’s senior writer Ashley Reed talked more about the relationship between the two games, and how they were going to incorporate Titanfall into Apex going forward. “What’s going on in Titanfall is a war, Apex is what happens after the war, like what is life like in this place?” Reed explained. “So we’re trying to integrate Titanfall into that, because Titanfall’s very much a part of the universe.” We’ve already seen a few parallels between the two games, for example multiple weapons from Titanfall are featured in Apex, and who can forget the hulking Leviathans (AKA Moyais) towering over the battle royale? What Titanfall content already have just seems to be the tip of the iceberg though, as Apex Legends Game Director Chad Grenier promised “a ton” coming in Season 9. “Next season, Season 9, you’re actually going to see a ton of Titanfall coming back into the game, in one way or another,” Grenier hinted. “I’ve told some people before, if you’re a Titanfall fan, hang on for Season 9 because there’s gonna be some really cool stuff there.” Obviously, Grenier didn’t get into the specifics of what will be coming our way next season. So barring any leaks or new information in the meantime, we’ll just have to wait and see what Titanfall fans have to be so excited about when Respawn officially announces it. Based on the reported Blisk leaks, it could be bigger than anyone was expecting.

  • Apex Legends Season 9 weapon changes: Spitfire nerf, Wingman buff, more – Dexerto

Apex Legends Season 9 weapon changes: Spitfire nerf, Wingman buff, more Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends Season 9 patch notes are here with a swarm of new changes that will introduce the new ‘Marksman Weapons’ category as well as nerfs to the Spitfire, Assault Rifles, and more. There’s always a trove of new updates to sift through with every seasonal update, and Season 9: Legacy is no exception. From Arc Stars to the Mozambique, Respawn are bringing in balance changes across the board along with new Legend, Valkyrie. Due to changes in the loot pool, the Wingman and Longbow are going to get some meaningful buffs that should make them useful out the gates. Meanwhile, the Spitfire proved to be a bit too busted for Respawn so they’re going to tone down its early firepower. This should see the rise of new top weapon contenders like the 30-30 Repeater, before Respawn possibly add new weapons like the CAR SMG. Check down below for a complete look at all the weapon buffs in Apex Legends Season 9: Legacy. Apex Legends Season 9 weapon buffs & nerfs Marksman Weapons A major note to consider comes in the form of a new weapon category that will now label the G7 Scout, 30-30 Repeater, Triple Take, and Bocek Bow as ‘Marksman Weapons.’ The most immediate change to Marksman Weapons is the increased movement speed you’re going to get while aiming down the sights. Care Package weapons The Triple Take will replace the Peacekeeper in supply drops. This means the Marksman weapon will now come with a 9 ammo clip with 63 reserve shots. Triple Take had its fire rate increased from 1.2 to 1.3. The time to full charge has been reduced from 1.1 seconds to a flat 1 second. It’ll briefly retain its charge after ADSing. And it has an increased spread while airborne and ADSing. Other than the Marksman Weapon move speed buff, the 30-30 Repeater had its leg damage multiplier increased from 0.75 to 0.85. The G7 Scout on the other hand has a slight nerf, increasing the hipfire spread to be more in line with other weapons of its class. Headshots & Skullpiercer As previously mentioned, the Wingman and Longbow had their headshot multiplier increased from 2.0 to 2.15 since the Skullpiercer is out of rotation. The Spitfire had its recoil controllability reduced early in its pattern, making it just a bit hard to aim in the opening shots. Respawn are still monitoring its power and will make changes accordingly. Meanwhile, the opposite can be said about the Havoc which had its recoil controllability early in the pattern increased. Another broad change has been made, this time for Assault Rifles. All Assault Rifle headshot multipliers have been reduced from 2.0 to 1.75. Since this was already the case with the Hemlok, this is primarily going to affect the R301, Flatline, and Havoc. Read more: How to unlock Heirlooms in Apex Legends – Mozambique & P2020 buff The Mozambique has a tighter pellet spread with the lower 2 projectiles, which should make it more useful considering its magazine size has been upgraded from 4 to 6. If the change transfers to the new Arenas mode, then it could make for interesting gameplay. As for the P2020, Respawn are giving the gun increased bullet damage from 15 to 18, and lowering the fire rate from 8.5 to 6.25. Peacekeeper is back The Peacekeeper is returning to its old form now that it’s out of the supply drops. Now it comes with a Precision Choke by default, which can be toggled on/off. Pellet damage has been reduced from 10 to 9, rechamber time increased from 0.9 to 1.1 seconds. Reload times increased: regular from 2.45 to 2.5, empty from 3.35 to 3.5. In general, the Peacekeeper pellet spread has been increased and spread when charged increased for all levels: from 0.65/0.45/0.2 to 0.85/0.65/0.35. The Peacekeeper will quickly lose charge after ADSing. Changes to Hop-Ups & attachments in Apex Season 9 Respawn likes to keep their loot pool constantly revolving to keep players on their toes. As such, there’s going to be some changes in Season 9’s hop-up offerings. Both the Hammerpoint and Skullpiercer hop ups have been vaulted in Season 9. Apex players will now find Shatter Caps and Deadeye’s Tempo. The former will be equipable to the 30-30 Repeater and Bocek bow, giving them a toggle fire that splits rounds into a blast pattern. With Deadeye’s Tempo firing at the perfect moment increases fire rate, and will be available for the Sentinel as well as the Bocek. Changes to fully kitted rotation in Apex Season 9 Apex Legends Season 9: Legacy has a new rotation for the fully kitted weapons that can be acquired in the game, so make note of the updated lineup. Removed R301 – 30-30 Repeater – Mozambique – Longbow DMR – Spitfire – Added Wingman – Bocek – R99 – Hemlock – Sentinel – Another key takeaway is a change to the Arc Stars, since Respawn removed the aim and movement slow from the initial stick. It’s still going to be a deathblow for people that get stuck, but it won’t be as punishing for the victim’s team. Meanwhile, Crate Weapon Drop Rates are getting rebalanced. The Kraber will be spawning less often in the early game, and more often as we get to the middle of a match. The Triple Take will be more common in the early game, and the Prowler will be seen a lot in the late game. Those round out all of the buffs, nerfs, and changes to Apex Legends’ vast weapon pool. Of course, these changes are going to go into effect once the Season 9: Legacy update lands on May 4, 2020.

  • Apex Legends Season 9 patch notes: Update time, buffs & nerfs, Arenas mode – Dexerto

Apex Legends Season 9 patch notes: Update time, buffs & nerfs, Arenas mode Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Legacy update drops on May 4, along with the new Legend Valkyrie, the new 3v3 Arenas mode, and so much more. Check out the full patch notes for Season 9 below. Outside of the main attractions of Arenas and Valkyrie, there are also map changes to Olympus, the new bow weapon, and new hop-ups with it too. And of course, there are lots of balancing changes to various Legends, and the existing weapon pool. What time is Apex Legends Season 9 update? The Apex Legends Legacy update will go live on Tuesday, May 4, at 10AM PT / 1PM ET / 6PM BST. PlayStation players can already pre-load the update on your console to be ready for Season 9, but other platforms (PC, Xbox, and Switch) will need to wait until update time to start the download. On PlayStation 4, the Season 9 update was around 30GB. The patch notes for Season 9 include a bunch of changes to Legends, including big buffs to Loba and Fuse, while Lifeline and Horizon get some big nerfs. There are also a lot of changes to the weapon meta, with the Peacekeeper returning to floor loot, and the Triple Take replacing it in care packages. With the addition of the Bow, there’s a new ‘Marksman Weapon’ category too. Check out the full patch notes from Respawn below. Apex Legends Legacy update patch notes ARENAS The Games are going underground with the introduction of a new permanent mode: Arenas. Fully reassembled and unimpressed with the glitz and glamor of the Apex Games, former Apex Predator Ash is taking the competition back to its roots. A purer form of combat. The rules are simple: 3-versus-3. Eliminate your enemies to win the round. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. You win, or you die. Arenas features a new set of custom maps, tailor-made for close-quarters combat (with more to come in the future). Squads start each round in a spawn room, where they can get weapons, gear, and abilities, and adjust their loadout as their strategy changes. The first team to win three rounds with at least a two-point lead will be crowned the victor—unless they battle to a four-four tie. Then they’ll have the honor of participating in Ash’s favorite part of the game: Sudden Death. PARTY CRASHER Party Crasher is one of two exciting custom arenas where you’ll be able to show off your skills. This arena takes place in a ritzy, downtown plaza where players can choose to engage on the crashed Mirage Voyage, or the opulent two story buildings that make up the downtown. Stay vigilante, as this map hosts a variety of engagement distances—both close quarters and long distance. PHASE RUNNER Phase Runner is the second of our custom arenas, and our largest. You’ll fight in a hidden, experimental zone at the peak of a mountain where a prototype phase runner lays for use. This map gives you a lot of space to maneuver, so be sure to be on the lookout for those who prefer to be patient and take you out from afar. Sound tactics and clear communication are what you’ll need to come out on top as you fight through the construction site or near the phase runner exit. In addition to the two new maps, other areas from our three BR maps will be thrown into a bi-weekly rotation, giving you five maps total for Arenas. At the start you’ll get Artillery from Kings Canyon, Thermal Station from World’s Edge, and Golden Gardens from Olympus. VALKYRIE Kairi Imahara, the daughter of Apex Predator Viper, salvaged the remains of her father’s Northstar Titan years after his death. With Rampart’s help, she fashioned it into a sleek new jetpack that honors her family’s legacy. Now, she’s entered the Games under the name VALKYRIE. Passive: VTOL Jets Use your jetpack to reposition or reach high places. You have limited fuel and cannot use weapons while flying. Tactical: Missile Swarm Fire a swarm of mini-rockets which damage and disorient the enemy. Ultimate: Skyward dive Take to the skies to reposition a long distance across the map. Your squadmates can join in. Class: Recon Scanning Survey Beacons reveals the next circle’s location. BOCEK The new Bocek (pronounced ) compound bow is a precision marksman weapon that rewards a skilled and confident hand. Holding down fire will draw the bow over a short time, increasing the power of the shot, with maximum power giving optimal damage and projectile speed. Repeatedly firing the Bocek right as it reaches max power provides the best sustained damage. The Bocek uses a new ammo type, Arrows, which are unique to this weapon. Arrows are more rare on the battlefield, but fired arrows will stick into surfaces and remain in the world for players to pick back up and reuse. The 1x hcog classic, 1x holosight, 2x hcog, 1x-2x variable, and 3x hcog optics can all be equipped. The Bocek can also be further modified with the two new hop-ups entering the game, Shatter Caps and Deadeye’s Tempo; it can even equip both hop-ups simultaneously! OLYMPUS – THE LOST FLEET UPDATE A fleet of mysterious ships have made their way to Olympus and brought with them an otherworldly, parasitic plant that has begun to take root along the surface. The lead ship, The Icarus, has docked with the city and changed the landscape for good. Fight through the claustrophobic halls of the ghost ship, search corpses for a mysterious key card, and walk away as the last squad standing. To allow everyone to see the latest map update, Olympus will be the only map in rotation for the first week of the new season. STARTER KIT AND LOOT CHANGES Players will now start a match with a “Starter Kit” consisting of a Level 1 EVO Shield, Helmet, and Knockdown Shield, plus two Shield Cells and Syringes each. – We’ve removed Level 1 Helmets and Knockdown Shields from the loot pool. – Spawn chances for Level 1 EVO Shields in the loot pool have been significantly reduced. – Along with the lowered or removed spawn chances for these items, we’ve rebalanced the loot pool such that higher-level versions of these items will appear nearly the same as they do now, but other item types will appear more often (weapons, ordinance, health, ammo, etc.) – EMOTES Introducing Emotes! Every Legend will have one emote unlocked at launch and additional emotes can be obtained through Apex packs or by crafting them. Equip your emotes to the emote wheel and flex away! It’s great fun to show off to your squadmates in the starting room of Arenas, and of course you have to use them on the Winner’s podium. Now, since emotes kick your camera back to a third-person view, we know some folks are already thinking about corner peeking. Competitive integrity is still paramount, so enemies that your character couldn’t see in first-person view will not be shown while you are in third person. This video shows the “Anti-Peek” feature working on the purple Dummie behind the rock. Without it, Pathfinder would be able to use the 3rd person camera to gain knowledge that he shouldn’t have. All emotes have Anti-Peek enabled and there is no way to disable it. BATTLE PASS Unlock the premium Legacy Battle Pass and level it up to unlock new skins like Rampart’s Crafty Kitsune at Premium Level 25 and Wraith’s Demon’s Whisper at Premium Level 50. LEGEND UPDATES LOW PROFILE CHARACTERS Low profile no longer exists! This trait has been removed from Wraith, Lifeline, and Wattson. – LIFELINE Combat Revive: No longer deploys a shield. Can now revive two players at the same time. Can now cancel active revives in progress to allow your teammate to defend themselves with their knockdown shield. – D.O.C. Heal Drone: Heal rate increased from 5hp per second to 8hp per second. Deployment time before healing begins reduced by roughly 33%. – Care Package: Cooldown reduced from 6 minutes to 5 minutes. Now guarantees an upgrade (if possible) in three categories: Body Shield, Other Equipment (Helmet, Backpack, and Knockdown Shield), and Weapon Attachment, based on your team’s current gear when the Package arrives. – OCTANE Stim: Reduced cooldown between stims from 4s to 1s. Increased health cost from 12hp to 20hp. – Increased bullet spread while in the air and shooting from the low Launch Pad trajectory. – LOBA Burglar’s Best Friend: Can now run and slide at full speed while aiming the bracelet and while the bracelet is in the air. Loba will no longer be slowed after translocating. – Fixed a lot of bugs that caused bracelet tosses to fail. – Black Market Boutique: Increased cooldown from 90s to 120s. HORIZON Gravity Lift: Reduced lift speed by 30%. Reduced side-to-side acceleration. Limited the time you can sit at the top of Gravity Lift to 2 seconds. Increased cooldown from 15s to 20s. – Horizon’s abilities will now get zapped by Wattson pylons. – FUSE Knuckle Cluster: Fuse now has two stacks of Knuckle Cluster. Reduced cooldown from 25s to 20s. – BANGALORE Smoke Launcher: Thickened Bangalore’s smoke. – BLOODHOUND No longer receives assists from Eye of the Allfather. – CRYPTO Crypto’s drone can now scan and open care packages. – Can no longer use his drone to “hijack” a respawn beacon that’s already in use. – WEAPONS UPDATES MARKSMAN WEAPON CATEGORY The G7 Scout and the 30-30 are currently in the Assault Rifle weapons category, but they are a bit strange in that category due to their firing style and some of their handling values. Similarly, the Triple Take felt a little out of place in the Sniper category. With the introduction of the Bocek bow, we felt it was a good time to introduce a new weapons category, Marksman Weapons, which will include the G7, 30-30, Triple Take, and Bocek. Weapons in this category are precision weapons that are most effective up to medium-long range, and are the sort of in-betweens of Assault Rifles and Snipers. This allows us to begin moving the settings of these weapons towards more consistent value for the class, and make the settings of ARs and Snipers more consistent with less outliers. For starters, we are increasing the movement speed while aiming down sights for marksman weapons; They were at sniper speeds, and will now be between sniper and AR speeds. Additionally, we have done some targeted normalization of hipfire spread amounts. SUPPLY DROP ROTATION This season, we’re taking the Peacekeeper out of the supply drop and putting the Triple Take in its place. Of course, with any supply drop change, these weapons will have their stats updated. See how each weapon changes down below. Crate Weapon Drop Rates: Since we are exchanging a shotgun with a marksman weapon, now was a good time to rebalance the drop rates of crate weapons. The Kraber will spawn less often in the early game and more often in the mid game to better accommodate its power. The Triple Take will be the most common early game crate weapon, with the Prowler being the most prominent late game crate weapon. • Apex Legends Season 9: Legacy brings big buff to Mozambique – Dexerto

Apex Legends Season 9: Legacy brings big buff to Mozambique Respawn EntertainmentThe reliable little Mozambique will be getting a sizeable upgrade to it’s magazine when Season 9: Legacy kicks off in Apex Legends. Players have been waiting for Apex Legends Season 9: Legacy for what seems like forever, but the good news is that it should be starting soon (May 4 to be exact) and one of our favorite guns will be getting a very nice update when it does. The Mozambique has been around since launch day in Apex, and as some players will remember the shotgun’s already had its magazine size increased from three to four in the past. Now, after some careful examination of the Season 9 trailer, we know an even bigger buff is on the way. During the preview for Apex’s brand new Arenas mode in the trailer above at around the 1:30 mark, you can see Mirage chopping it up with what is definitely a Mozambique able to hold six shots at once, based on the readout on the back of the gun and how it changes with each shot. A change like this will be massive news for the sidearm, as it’s currently only able to hold four like we’ve mentioned. So an increase up to six would mean it can now hold 50 percent more rounds, and do 50 percent more damage per clip. This would make it more than capable of downing an opponent without reloading, which anyone who’s used the weapon before will tell you is a literal killer in the middle of a fight. There is one thing to watch out here for — and it’s that the Mozambique updates were shown in Arenas mode and not the battle royale. We don’t know yet whether or not the Mozambique and other weapons in Arenas will have special stats just for matches there, or if the update will be included in the main game as well. The different playstyles required for BRs and the CSGO/Valorant style Arenas will bring certainly could call for different weapons in each, but we’ll just have to wait a little longer for the patch notes to know for sure.

  • Apex Legends Season 9 leak reveals big map changes and Crypto event details – Dexerto

Apex Legends Season 9 leak reveals big map changes and Crypto event details RespawnA new Apex Legends leak has revealed that map changes are coming to both Olympus and World’s Edge in Season 9, as well as confirming the theme for the Crypto heirloom event. As the Apex Legends seasons have rolled on, Respawn Entertainment has made plenty of changes, just not to the cast of characters, but to the battle royale’s different maps as well. Kings Canyon, the game’s original map, is, at parts, unrecognizable to its original form, while World’s Edge has gone through plenty of transformations itself. Olympus, the game’s newest map, is largely still the same. With Season 9 fast approaching, it’s lead to plenty of conversation about what Respawn should do with the three maps. Should they rotate all three, or just keep the current rotation of Olympus and obliterated Kings Canyon? Well, according to Apex Legends leaker Biast12, both Olympus and World’s Edge are in for changes in Season 9, which means they’ll likely be shaping up the rotation when the time comes. The reliable leaker said, on April 14, that Olympus will be tweaked at the start of the new season while a smaller change to World’s Edge will come once the season is already underway. “Olympus should get the “big map change” at season start,” he tweeted. “World’s Edge should get a small map change mid-season.” As of writing, the leaker hasn’t said anything about Kings Canyon but given how much damage that suffered in Season 8, it might be due for some bigger changes in future seasons. Map changes: Olympus should get the “”big map change”” at season start World’s Edge should get a small map change mid season— Biast12 (@Biast12) April 14, 2021 Additionally, the leaker also had some dirt to dish on the upcoming Crypto heirloom event. The season three legend is apparently getting a Jikdo sword as an heirloom and according to Biast, the theme for the event will be “post-apocalypse.” That event should also signal the arrival of some new skins and other cosmetics, and a “post-apocalypse” theme could mean some nice new designs. As ever though, these leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt until they are live in-game as Respawn can always changes things, no matter how reliable the leaker has been before.

  • Apex Legends devs eyeing Bloodhound nerfs to keep tracker in check – Dexerto

Apex Legends devs eyeing Bloodhound nerfs to keep tracker in check Respawn EntertainmentBloodhound has been a staple on everyone’s Apex Legends line-ups since Day 1. However, Respawn are keeping an eye on the tracker to see if any nerfs are needed in Season 9, primarily looking at their scan’s power in ranked play. Chances are that you’ve queued up with a Bloodhound more times than not in Apex Legends. The tracker has been a core part of many squads since the game’s release, with their intel-gathering being second-to-none to this day. The Season 6 buffs to Bloodhound only strengthened their place in the roster. With the shortened Eye of the Allfather cooldown while Beast of the Hunt is active, and reduced activation time, it became incredibly powerful. Bloodhound is now one of the most picked Legends in Apex, according to the devs, and that has put them in their sights for a potential nerf in Season 9. “I’ve been keeping an eye on Bloodhound. Seems rare to come across a squad without one in my experiences in ranked, and they have the third highest pick rate at the moment,” developer John ‘JayBiebs’ Larson admitted on Reddit. The first change Respawn are looking at is a big change to their power in ranked: assists from scans. Being able to farm kill participation for points by just scanning enemies — not even firing a bullet — means most Bloodhound players can avoid losing RP in every game. Before they actually touch the rest of their kit, they want to test if removing the assist will nudge their play rate down. Read More: New Apex ‘Compound Bow’ weapon being tested – “I’d be curious to see how much that may dip if we removed assists from scans. I know it’s a super-powerful ability regardless, but I’m curious if it’d move the needle at all before looking at nerfing the ability itself,” JayBiebs said. Season 9 is just around the corner — less than a month — and Respawn has already made their intentions clear about Lifeline, Loba, Revenant, and more. Bloodhound would be joining that ever-growing list of Legend changes, but exactly what the devs want to do isn’t locked down just yet; we will make sure we update you once any and all changes are finalized.

  • Apex Legends Season 8 to bring back Anvil Receiver and add new Hop-Up – Dexerto

Apex Legends Season 8 to bring back Anvil Receiver and add new Hop-Up Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment appears to have a couple of aces up their sleeve for Apex Legends Season 8, as new Legend Fuse and the 30-30 Repeater weapon will be added alongside two Hop-Up items. The Anvil Receiver, and one we’ve not seen before. The meta in Apex Legends is likely to be given a shakeup, even if just slightly, for the next major update in the game. No weapon was added in Season 7, with the majority of the community happy with the balance of gameplay, and clearly, the developers agreed on that occasion. This time, though, things will be different. A new hard-hitting rifle is being added to shuffle the pack, and now it appears a couple of Hop-Ups will be made available – with the return of the Anvil Receiver. Apex Legends Season 8 set to bring back Anvil Receiver Removed in Season 5, the Anvil Receiver was replaced in-game by the Skullpiercer Rifling Hop-up. In an EA Game Changers video posted to YouTube on January 28, content creator Dazs reveals some tips for how to handle the weapon. In one instance, however, players realized that in the bottom right corner of the HUD, the Anvil Receiver option appeared on the Flatline. Now, this is obviously a huge hint that it’s about to be included in the Season 8 patch notes. For those who can’t remember exactly which guns worked with the former, players could previously attach the Receiver to the R-301 and Flatline. Should it return, we see no reason why those would change. The general use of this Hop-Up is to decrease the rate of fire, use two ammo per shot in single fire mode, but also almost doubling semi-auto damage. Reacting to the news of its potential return in Apex Legends Season 8, one fan said: “It is decided, I’m gonna use Flatline the whole of next season,” while another posted: “Imagine if they brought back disruptor rounds…” New Hop-Up discovered Not only that, but in the same video it appears that the Sentinel also has a new Hop-Up slot. No details have been released on what this will be, as of the time of writing, but is yet another sign that the loot pool is going to experience some substantial changes in the next season. The Anvil Reciever was a fairly popular item in the past, and based on the comments in the Reddit thread, people are delighted to hear it may be coming back sooner rather than later.

  • Apex Legends Season 8 patch notes: Legends buffs, bug fixes, more – Dexerto

Apex Legends Season 8 patch notes: Legends buffs, bug fixes, more Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Season 8: Mayhem update is dropping on February 2, and there’s a lot of changes in the patch. Check out the full patch notes from Respawn. [jwplayer VEi3mnK7] Obviously, the main changes are the addition of the new Legend, Fuse, who hails from Salvo, as well as the new weapon – the 30-30 repeater. Kings Canyon is also massively changed, as Fuse’s entrance to the Apex games did not go smoothly and his old friend Maggie crashed the party – literally. But, the most exciting part of the patch notes themselves is how Respawn has adjusted the various Legends with nerfs and buffs, plus some of the quality of life changes. Check out the notes from Respawn below. Apex Legends Season 8 Mayhem Patch notes NEW LEGEND: FUSE Meet Fuse: a mercenary-turned-cage fighter who never turns down a good dust-up. His affinity for explosions allows him to carry extra grenades and to throw them faster and further. He can launch a cluster bomb with airburst explosives. And when it’s time to really bring the boom, Fuse uses “Wally” to launch a bombardment that encircles an area in a ring of flames. Passive – Grenadier Stack an extra grenade per inventory slot. Fire grenades farther, faster, and more accurately. Tactical – Knuckle Cluster Launch a cluster bomb that continuously expels airburst explosives on impact. Ultimate – The Motherlode Launch a bombardment that encircles a target area in a wall of flames. NEW WEAPON: 30-30 REPEATER This heavy ammo lever-action repeater boasts hard-hitting rounds that’ll nail a fleeing Mirage at 200 paces. The 30-30 is the benchmark for reliability, designed to withstand whipping sandstorms and temporal instability, which made it an obvious choice for the Apex Games. DISCIPLINED TRIGGER FINGER The 30-30 Repeater requires the user to rechamber their rounds between shots which brings a methodic rhythm to the rifle, an analogue elegance that the modern weapons of the Outlands just can’t quite capture. To further tempt those itchy trigger fingers, the 30-30 Repeater has a built-in charge giving players an opportunity to deal increased damage with each shot at the cost of a short build-up. The 30-30 reloads one round at a time, which makes for some very interesting resource management you won’t find anywhere else, even on the Mastiff. The 30-30’s engagement range allows unique opportunities to reload individual rounds between shots. This gives the Repeater the ability to lay down consistent precision ranged pressure, something weapons with full reloads can sometimes struggle with. KINGS CANYON MAP UPDATE Season 8 once again sees changes to Kings Canyon. The main new point of interest shows the devastation from the ship crashing into the map. Players can now explore beyond Artillery, Spotted Lakes takes over the Slums and some new observation towers for basic recon or a sniper’s nest. Read more on the map changes here. LEGENDARY MAGAZINES Season 8 introduces the Gold-tier magazines. Attaching it to a weapon automatically reloads your stowed weapons after a brief delay. The Gold magazine has the same capacity as Purple mags, and is available for Light, Heavy, Snipers, and Energy Weapons. QUALITY OF LIFE UPDATES Damage counter We have now added a damage counter to the HUD. This was a highly requested feature, so we’re excited to allow people easier tracking for chasing those badges and challenges! – Pinging Ammo Pinging weapons or ammo in your inventory displays your current ammo count along with “player wants ammo” in quick chat. – Color Blind update Healing and reviving will now follow colorblind rules when colorblind settings are enabled – Lore Blurbs on Canon Skins Some of our skins are canon, and some are just for fun. For the skins that represent an important part of that character’s backstory, we’ve added a small blurb to describe the significance of that skin in the Legend’s life. – LEGEND META Wraith: Hitbox adjustments. – We know Wraith will always be a popular pick considering the amount of combat utility in her kit. After many tweaks to her abilities and animations, the fact remains that her win rate continues to be at the very top as it has since day one. With Season 7 hitbox adjustments to Pathfinder, we were able to control his power without nerfing his kit. We hope to do the same with Wraith. Wraith now has a slightly larger hitbox than her fellow small legends, but the changes stay true to her model. As you can see in the before and after comparison, we’re adding some width mostly in the torso and leg areas: Even with these changes, Wraith remains small and hard to hit. She will retain Low Profile as we monitor her usage and win rates to see if power can be given back in other ways in the future. Rampart: Sheila angle increase from 120° to 180° – Wall health in build phase increased from 1hp to 45hp (sniper rounds still pierce through) – Rampart has remained at the bottom across our performance metrics since her release. Her kit is very much built around proactively setting up a powerful position, but in a game as fast-moving as Apex, we determined her walls should have some reactive power as well. We’re keeping a careful eye on this one. Horizon: Gravity Lift effective cooldown increased from 21s to 25s. The 15s cooldown timer will now start when the Gravity Lift disappears. – Horizon released strong, to the point where she rivals Wraith in win rate and pick rate. For the time being, we are monitoring her usage and checking whether or not the cooldown changes have a significant effect. Octane: Launch Pad Remastered: Many players may have known about Octane’s “super-jump” that was possible with a well-timed jump while hitting the pad. Once the double-jump option was introduced, there was an input clash that led to unreliable usage. We decided to add some launch options that are better defined than the old super-jump. Hitting the jump pad from a standing position will launch players along a high arc (the speed and trajectory of the old super-jump). – From a crouched position, players will launch along a low arc, meaning they’ll fly lower but farther in the horizontal direction. – Crypto: Remove ability to stick arc stars to friendly drones. – Loba: Loot inside unopened care packages is now visible with Eye for Quality and accessible through the Black Market Boutique. – Caustic: All gas now dissipates as soon as Caustic’s team is eliminated. – Mirage: Mirage decoys create footstep sounds. – This change was mistakenly mentioned in the Fight Night patch notes when it was in fact coming with this patch. Mirage decoys will now have footstep audio in a limited capacity. There won’t be a footstep tornado if an enemy Mirage ults nearby, but it should be slightly harder to pick out the real Mirage from audio cues alone. WEAPON META Fully Kitted Rotation Removed: Wingman, Sentinel, Havoc, G7, Alternator – Added: R-301, 30-30 Repeater, Mozambique, Longbow DMR, Spitfire – Attachments We are removing the Gold Barrel from the loot pool – Hop Ups The Double Tap hop up will be removed from the loot pool – The Anvil Rounds hop up will be added into the loot pool – Volt Bullet damage decreased from 16 to 15 – Alternator Bullet damage increased from 15 to 16 – Spitfire Bullet damage increased from 18 to 19 – Reload speed increased from 2.8 seconds to 3.2 – Empty Reload speed increased from 3.33 seconds to 3.8 – EVA 8 Fire rate increased from 2.0 to 2.1 – BUG FIXES Caustic Sonar abilities no longer stop Caustic’s highlight vision. – Loba Fixed a few exploitable areas on Kings Canyon that Loba was able to reach via her Bracelet. – Rampart Jumpads in Octane’s town takeover no longer allow Rampart to place Sheila on them. – Fixed an issue with Rampart’s passive persisting even after changing characters in Firing Range – Havoc Fixed an issue causing the Havoc to have 100% accuracy when hip-fired through Rampart’s Amped Cover. – Peacekeeper Fixed a POV issue that occurred when using Horizon’s abilities, then immediately going into ADS with a Peacekeeper. – Clubs Re-enabled ability to invite friends to club from friends list – Fixed an issue causing some users who have opted out of “Last Squad Invites” to not appear in club event timelines when placing in the top 5 of a match – Failing to connect to the club database no longer leads to a misleading “Kicked from club” message – Players will no longer be kicked from clubs when switching to another profile on Xbox. – MISC Fixed an issue with crowds not cheering in Pathfinder’s Town takeover. – Fixed an issue preventing some heirlooms from appearing in the heirloom shop. – Fixed an issue that allowed Thermites to deal damage through certain walls on Olympus. – Ranked Play A new Ranked Series will begin at the start of Season 8: Ranked Series 7. The first split will take place on Kings Canyon, and run until March 23. The Second split will be on Olympus. No World’s Edge in Ranked play. Full Ranked Play changes can be seen here. Earn placement RP earlier in a match RP rewards begin at placement 13 instead of 10 in a match. – – Kill/Assist count has been raised to 6 Earn RP for more of your kills and assists in a given match. – This is a slight nudge to give really good players a slightly faster trip back to their competitive rank, while giving our top tier players more ways to pull ahead of the pack in the Predator ranks. – – Assist Threshold Increased to 10 seconds Earn assists for up to 10 seconds (up from 7.5 seconds) after dealing damage to a target that is killed by someone else. – – Predator has been increased to the top 750 players Allowing more players to enter predator should improve queue times while remaining an exclusive tier for the highest levels of play. – – Matchmaking Tightening Players below Diamond will matchmake much more often within their own Ranks. – – Skydive Trails return In Season 8, Diamond Skydive Trails will be making a return as a ranked reward. – –

  • Apex Legends Season 8 makes major Ranked play changes – Dexerto

Apex Legends Season 8 makes major Ranked play changes Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment have outlined some major changes and improvements to Ranked play in Season 8, which include increasing the Predator Rank to 750 players, and bringing Skydive trails back. The developers say that in Season 7, Ranked play had a higher player count and more playtime than in previous seasons, a positive indicator of growth for the more competitive side to Apex Legends. But, there is still a lot of feedback to be taken on board by the devs, who said as far back as Season 6 that they had lots of changes planned for the system. Those changes took some time to implement though, and didn’t come in Season 7 either. Now, in time for Season 8 starting on February 2, Respawn have unveiled their all-new ranked system. First, Respawn shared the results of Season 7 Ranked, with Season 6 break down given in brackets. 16.35% Bronze (17.76%) – 23.86% Silver (26.23%) – 32.09% Gold (36.25%) – 23.13% Platinum (17.75%) – 4.37% Diamond (1.89%) – 0.20% Master & Apex Predator (0.12%) – Apex Legends Season 8 Ranked play changes Respawn say they have two main goals with the changes to Ranked in Season 8 and beyond. The first is to “Create a healthier top end in Diamond+”, and the second to improve match quality, which includes filling most, if not all, of the players in your lobby with players of the same rank. – – Season 8 Ranked play splits The first split of Season 8 will take place on the new-look Kings Canyon, and will run until March 23. It will then be replaced by Olympus for the second split, while World’s Edge will not feature in Ranked play this season. Season 7 Ranked rewards And for those of you who grinded Ranked mode in Season 7, here’s what you can expect to pick up as rewards, depending on your rank. Update: Respawn have said that they made a mistake, and that Diamond Skydive trails will only be available as Season 8 rewards – so next season, rather than Season 7. They have updated the image of the rewards, removing Diamond trails for Season 7: Apex Legends Season 8 starts on February 2, on PS4/5, Xbox One and Series S/X, and PC on Origin and Steam. We’re also expecting the Nintendo Switch version to release in time for Season 8.

  • Apex Legends Season 8 launch trailer reveals Fuse abilities and destroyed Kings Canyon – Dexerto

Apex Legends Season 8 launch trailer reveals Fuse abilities and destroyed Kings Canyon Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment have given a first look at the new Legend Fuse and his abilities in action, plus the obliteration of Kings Canyon, in the Apex Legends Season 8 Launch trailer. Fuse, real name Walter Fitzroy is the eighth post-launch Legend to join the Apex games, bringing the total to 16 – double what the game had at launch. As his name implies, his abilities are all about explosives, and he’s a blow-it-up-first, ask questions later, type character. Hailing from Salvo – a new planet we’ve only just found out about – he’s also bringing a new weapon with him, the 30-30 repeater. The launch trailer, released on January 21, gives us our first look at two key parts of the upcoming season: Fuse’s ability kit, and the new-look Kings Canyon. Season 8 Launch Trailer Fuse abilities in Apex Legends Although not completely explained, this trailer gives us a look at Fuse using his abilities, which he’ll have in the Apex games. His ultimate, which was already teased in-game, sees him drop a mortar-like bomb, which then explodes into flames, damaging anyone nearby. We can also see him launch grenades from his arm, which will be his tactical ability. Kings Canyon Salvo’s unification with the Syndicate was meant to be a joyous occasion, but Fuse’s old friends are certainly not happy about – and decided to crash the party. Read More: Apex Legends buffs and nerfs in Season 8 – This has left Kings Canyon in ruins – ready for a new Season of massive map changes. Respawn have become experts at weaving the game’s lore into actual gameplay, and this is just another example of that. In the trailer, it appears that Artillery and Slum Lakes have both been destroyed, but we may have to wait until the gameplay trailer to see the full extent of the damage. Season 8 launches on consoles, PC, and possibly Nintendo Switch, on February 2.

  • Apex Legends Season 8 is being ruined by laggy servers and connection problems – Dexerto

Apex Legends Season 8 is being ruined by laggy servers and connection problems Respawn/EAApex Legends players are growing increasingly frustrated by the server issues that have been plaguing Season 8, calling on Respawn to do something immediately. The start of Apex Legends Season 8 has brought about significant change to the battle royale. Fuse has been introduced as a new character, Kings Canyon has been changed quite drastically, and the 30-30 Repeater is ripping through enemies. Though, the new season has also brought quite a few issues as well. The annoying Code: Leaf error code has been rearing its head, and players have been stuck inside infinite loading screens, preventing them from getting to the main lobby at all. These issues are both linked to the game’s servers being overwhelmed and struggling to perform as players jump into the battle royale for a few matches. Players have been reporting all kinds of connection related issues, from not being able to find games, to games not loading when its meant to, and constant lagging when a game starts. TSM’s Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith called out the devs and the state of the servers after one of his ranked games went off the rails and he was teleported through a wall. “This is the state of your servers in Predator ranked right now,” he said, showing off the insanely laggy game. “There’s no shot you guys aren’t aware of this but something seriously needs to be done.” @shahin @lowkeydbjosh @GH057ayame @tangentiallogic @danielzklein @PlayApex This is the state of your servers in predator ranked right now, theres no shot you guys aren’t aware of this but something seriously needs to be done. pic.twitter.com/VEquyPacro — Albralelie (@TSM_Albralelie) February 13, 2021 Fellow streamer Daltoosh echoed Albralelie’s post, hitting out at the servers and labeling them a “joke.” “Apex servers are a fu**ing joke man,” he said. “Literally the worst experience to play on. Needs to be fixed asap. Actually unacceptable they haven’t done anything yet.” Apex servers are a fucking joke man. Literally the worst experience to play on. Needs to be fixed asap. Actually unacceptable they haven’t done anything yet — OpTic Daltoosh🎒 (@daltoosh) February 13, 2021 Of course, it’s not just the pros and streamers that are affected. A large portion of the playerbase is reporting similar issues. Some Redditors claimed they’ve barely been able to play the new season at all because of the connection issues. Respawn investigating server issues Making matters worse, there is a collection event ongoing, which only lasts for two weeks, meaning players are missing out on the chance to unlock the cosmetics. Read More: When is Apex Legends mobile coming out? – “Random 250ms latency during games and server connection issues are the norm we must get used to now,” said one player. “These servers are ridiculous. Honestly, they should at least make some kind of statement about a fix? There needs to be some kind of change,” added another. Respawn have added two of the main issues to their Trello board: The infinite loading screens and the “slow-mo” servers. Both of these issues are marked as being “investigated” at the time of writing. Hopefully, there will be some fixes soon to address the problems.

  • Looks like Apex Legends is keeping Peacekeeper, Kraber as supply drop guns in Season 8 – Dexerto

Looks like Apex Legends is keeping Peacekeeper, Kraber as supply drop guns in Season 8 Respawn EntertainmentIt looks like Respawn has no plans — for the moment — to reshuffle the Apex Legends supply drop guns, with the Prowler, the Kraber .50-cal sniper rifle, and the Peacekeeper set to stay as Heirloom guns heading into Season 8. Apex Legends has enjoyed a rotating roster of Heirloom guns in the battle royale’s randomly-dropped care packages since mid-2019, when the L-STAR was added to the title’s super-rare “red” arsenal. The Devotion, Mastiff, and R-99 have all spent stints as rare supply drops in past seasons, before Respawn settled on the current roster. The current high-impact trio will be sticking around to start Season 8 too; early gameplay videos highlighting Fuse and the flashy new 30-30 Repeater rifle have seemingly confirmed the Heirloom roster will remain unchanged. All three current Heirloom weapons — the Peacekeeper shotgun, Prowler submachine gun, and Kraber .50-cal sniper — were spotted in the Apex Legends training yard in multiple videos. This seems to suggest the Apex Legends devs don’t have any plans to swap out which red guns can be collected from supply drops, at least early on in Season 8. Considering the new season, “Mayhem,” kicks off on Feb. 2, it seems a little late to be tweaking that in the live versions of the game. It’s worth noting, however, Respawn has not confirmed anything yet. That being said, Dexerto has spoken to several of Apex Legends’ prominent data miners, who are all of the opinion the newly-released gameplay guides have been filmed on the same builds that are set to be sent live for players on Feb. 2. Read More: Apex Legends Season 8 early patch notes – There have also been no changes in the battle royale’s code regarding supply drop guns, suggesting nothing has been fiddled with ahead of Season 8’s launch. This decision means the Peacekeeper will now spend its fourth consecutive season in supply drops. It was added to the Heirloom arsenal in May, 2020. The Prowler has been locked away inside care packages for a much shorter stint; the heavy submachine gun was hooked from the Apex Legends loot pool in the Season 7 launch patch, when the R-99 SMG was unleashed back into the game. The Kraber rifle has been in supply drops since before Season 1. Apex Legends Season 8 is set to officially launch on Tuesday, February 2.

  • Apex Legends Season 8 Gold Weapon Mags confirmed: How they work – Dexerto

Apex Legends Season 8 Gold Weapon Mags confirmed: How they work Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment have confirmed a new way to reload will be coming in the Apex Legends Season 8 update, as Gold Mags for weapons are being added. [jwplayer vP8vm9zZ] The eighth season in the game’s history launches two days before the second anniversary of the battle royale, and based on what we know so far, its next Legend Fuse is entering the fight with a bang. The first trailer for the update showed off a destroyed Kings Canyon, after Fuse’s arrival didn’t quite go to plan. Explosives were stored all around the map and set off, meaning big map changes are expected. If you’re looking for a full map reveal for S8, on top of the early patch notes, January 26 will the date to look out for. However, the dev team have dropped another huge detail whole promoting the live showcase of trailer two, mentioning new mags that are in the works. Gold Mags, to be exact. Apex Legends Season 8 Gold Mags confirmed As regular players will know by now, these trailers are often a live page that the community can drop into way before the promo video goes live. A countdown eventually starts up and new content emerges. That said, this time we haven’t had to wait for the countdown to know big things are going to be mentioned in the showcase. In the video description for YouTube, it states: “Fuse arrives in Season 8, and he’s packing plenty of attitude — and things that go boom. Pick apart the opposition with the Salvo’s most popular weapon, the lever-action 30-30 Repeater. Explore an obliterated Kings Canyon reshaped by Fuse’s arrival. “Look out for Gold Magazines, capable of automatically reloading holstered weapons. Plus grab the latest Battle Pass and blast through the competition in Ranked. Ready to master the mayhem?” New in Season 8: Gold Magazines, capable of automatically reloading holstered weapons 👀 pic.twitter.com/xhS3Un5KNP — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) January 25, 2021 So yes, it looks like Gold Mags will be one of the biggest features coming to the Apex Games in Season 8. Will Gold Mags be overpowered? Immediately, players were concerned that this new item could be on the overpowered side. However, game designer Daniel Klein has reassured players that the reload will not be instant. “I think some of you imagine this to be a lot faster than it is. There’s a good delay before a holstered weapon is reloaded, and if it turns out that delay isn’t long enough, we can always increase it.” The dev explained. “This shouldn’t be usable for cheating out of a reload; this should be for switching to another weapon, using it for a bit, and then switching back to your reloaded initial weapon. The developer also explained that there is a quick popup on screen and a “sound” when your offhand reload is complete – so you’ll know when it’s safe to switch back! How to watch Apex Legends Season 8 trailer If you’re looking to see Kings Canyon’s map changes and the explainer of Gold Mags ahead of the new update, we’ve embedded the live stream below. Once we have more information about the Gold Mags, and Kings Canyon for that matter, we’ll update this article.

  • Apex Legends Season 8: All Kings Canyon map changes – Dexerto

Apex Legends Season 8: All Kings Canyon map changes Respawn EntertainmentWith one week to go until the start of Apex Legends Season 8, Respawn Entertainment has debuted the gameplay trailer, finally revealing all of the new gameplay changes in the upcoming season. [jwplayer VEi3mnK7] The main attraction of this trailer is our first proper look at the completely changed Kings Canyon map for Season 8, which has been changed significantly thanks to Fuse’s explosive arrival. The map has faced its share of criticisms in recent seasons, with a lot of players preferring World’s Edge or Olympus over the original home of the Apex Games. Respawn will be hoping that these map changes will be what players are looking for – and maybe even make it a viable map for Ranked play again. We already know a lot of what’s coming in Season 8, but this is our first look at gameplay. Season 8 Gameplay Trailer Kings Canyon map changes in Season 8 The first places to be destroyed by Fuse’s party were Artillery and Slum Lakes, locations that had remained relatively unchanged up to this point. Read More: Apex Legends buffs and nerfs in Season 8 – These locations have been totally revamped, with new buildings in their place. The overall hue of the map has also been changed, as players often asked for the original lighting from the earlier seasons to return. The crash site is an all-new POI. It’s situated in a previously unplayable area of the map, in the north. The ship is scaleable too, with a ‘jungle gym’ like feel thanks to all the scaffolding. A series of other changes affecting Artillery and the tunnels surrounding were shown off by Respawn in a before and after display: Tunnels from Artillery: pic.twitter.com/eXnxmj5rxK — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) January 26, 2021 Respawn explains that “The devastation to the North has caused flooding to wipe Slum Lakes off the map. In its place is the new Spotted Lakes, which attributes its name to the unusual spots found in the flooded, contaminated waters.” ECHO Camps have been setup, and this is what you’ll be fighting in instead. This should give off a refreshed, urban feel. Read More: How Gold Mags work in Apex Legends – “Kings Canyon has gotten a facelift and an expansion with an entirely new addition to the map’s footprint. You can also find ECHO (Ecological Cleanup and Hazard Outreach) camps, Explosive Holds, Observation Towers, and more!” There are new Observation Towers spotted around the map, which will grant an advantageous high-ground, but also make you a big target. They can only be raised up once, with a panel at the base, but this will reveal your position too. Another new area is dubbed ‘uncovered bones’, which acts as a throughway between Slum Lakes and Runoff/Airbase. It’s marked by ancient Leviathan bones, uncovered by Maggie’s bombs. Explosive Holds A brand new addition to Kings Canyon are Explosive Holds, which will function similarly to the vaults on other maps. Here’s what you need to know about the new Explosive Holds, and how to access them. Respawn explain that they wanted to reduce third partying on Kings Canyon, and have done so by adding a new location, and by “thinning out densely-packed smaller POIs to give more breathing room and reduce combat choke points.” To help with this, they’ve removed some areas that were notorious for third parties, such as Farm. “Although small in stature, it had been called out as a frustrating spot to travel through and fight in,” Respawn said. “Removing it allowed for more breathing space between towns and one less hotspot for people to ambush from.” We’ll be jumping in to see these map changes ourselves when Season 8 starts on February 2.

  • Apex Legends Season 7 to bring major crafting changes – Dexerto

Apex Legends Season 7 to bring major crafting changes Respawn/EAThe Apex Legends Season 7 update is set to make a pretty big change to what items you can get from a Replicator through crafting. [jwplayer QJBhIFLZ] Prior to the start of Apex Legends Season 6, players raised a collective eyebrow when Respawn Entertainment announced that they would be adding a crafting feature to the battle royale. Many assumed that it could be like Fortnite, being able to build cover, but its not like that at all. Instead, the feature has proven to be pretty popular, and has become a key aspect in many matches given that you can get weapons and healing items. However, with Season 7 on the horizon, just like many other things, crafting appears to be in for a bit of a change. Apex Legends Season 7 crafting changes Now, you don’t have to worry about getting materials, that still works in the same way. The way we’re alluding to is what you’ll get from Replicators through crafting. With the embargo on early gameplay for Season 7 being lifted, some content creators showed that the Replicators now have Shield Batteries instead of Shield Cells inside. It also appears that they offer additional ammo than before too. However, weapons will no longer offered. Instead, as the devs explained in their patch notes, Shield Batteries have taken their place and the high-level attachments will still be tailored towards a weapon category. While some players might view crafting as worthless with there ebing no weapons available, having Shield Batteries inside could be quite the game-changer in itself. They can, in some situations, be a bit tougher to find, so being able to stock up on them through crafting would be something some players would enjoy.

  • First look at new Apex Legends Olympus map revealed in Season 7 teaser – Dexerto

First look at new Apex Legends Olympus map revealed in Season 7 teaser Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has given players their first look at the new ‘Olympus’ map coming in Season 7 via an effect on the game’s official Instagram story. [jwplayer ePrNLj8A] The hype just keeps on building for the next Apex season, and Respawn has already made it pretty clear Olympus will be the newest map added to the game. Now, we’ve finally gotten a peek at what it will actually look like with a new teaser posted to Instagram on Oct. 27. In it, you can see the giant red domes/balloons that hold up the floating city, a tall structure with a yellow ramp coming off of it in the center, and another round structure further in the back. Strangely enough, there doesn’t seem to be any floor from this perspective, that’s because Olympus actually floats in the air, and the camera is located off the edge of the map and is looking at it from the side. BREAKING: First look at Olympus revealed via Apex Legends Instagram effect. pic.twitter.com/f22OPF0wYX — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) October 27, 2020 The new map, which Dexerto called all the way back in Season 5, has been mentioned and name-dropped in multiple Apex Legends teasers over the past few months. It’s arrival did end up being delayed slightly, but now it’s finally on its way. To put it more accurately, we might actually be on our way to it instead – based on the Hammond rocket on World’s Edge, which activated its main thrusters just before Season 7 gets started. Respawn describes Olympus as a “beautiful, lush city in the clouds,” and from their Instagram story hints, it’s not hard to see why. A look at the new map from another perspective shows a lush, alien landscape of purple grass and sakura trees surrounding the Oasis point of interest, which also has one of the mysterious new Trident vehicles parked out front. As for the competitive side of things, it’s slated to be in the ranked play rotation from November 4 to December 15, after which it’ll be switched out in favor of World’s Edge until the end of the season. • Apex Legends Season 7 start date changed: Season 6 Double XP – Dexerto

Apex Legends Season 7 start date changed: Season 6 Double XP Respawn EntertainmentAfter an initial leak and then a change with the Season 6 Battle Pass, it appears that the start date for Apex Legends’ Season 7 start date has been moved up by a week. Respawn have now confirmed they are planning to add double XP to help players finish their battle pass. [jwplayer rSmq5Fo4] Despite no official announcement from Respawn, Apex Legends Season 7 is kicking off a week earlier than had been originally scheduled. According to the in-game Battle Pass menu, S7 was initially set to start on November 10, which made sense given the length of a standard Apex Legends season. But, on October 21, the date was changed to November 4, with only 14 days remaining on the Battle Pass. This all but confirms the date change, which Respawn have not yet explained, although it could be because S6 had been delayed by a week, so this could be the devs wanting to keep subsequent seasons right on schedule, rather than all of them also starting a week later. The Season 6 Battle Pass now only has 14 days remaining, taking us to November 4 for Season 7. pic.twitter.com/qDTqDYWP5r — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) October 21, 2020 While this change fixes that issue and also means Apex fans will be able to access Season 7’s content a week earlier, at the same time, they’ll have a week less than originally anticipated to experience everything that Season 6 has to offer. Apex Legends game director Chad Grenier has now apologized for the poor communication of the change, saying “We are discussing internally and will be better going forward.” The good news though, is that Double XP will be rolling out to make up for the lost time. Respawn haven’t set an exact date for this yet. “We are planning double XP for end of season due to us reducing the time by a few days, and also you can expect a slight season 7 retune,” Grenier said. Comment by from discussion inapexlegends It makes more sense now that the annual Fight or Fright Halloween-themed event, which is now live, is wrapping up on November 3, just in time for the new season to launch. This change also helps to explain why Respawn have been so teaser-happy recently, putting out voice recordings almost on a daily basis hinting at what’s coming to their prized battle royale in its seventh chapter. While we don’t know what these recordings mean just yet, since they all seem to be pieces of a larger puzzle, there’s no doubt that the Apex community is getting excited again over that familiarly awesome feeling of new content on the way. I was so daft””pic.twitter.com/V42psKpawR — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) October 21, 2020 S7 is set to introduce a brand new legend named, and there’s also expectations for a new weapon, and possibly even a new map.
