  • Apex Legends’ players slam ‘ridiculous’ muzzle flash issues – Dexerto

Apex Legends’ players slam ‘ridiculous’ muzzle flash issues Bishop_ow/RespawnAn Apex Legends update has removed the ability for players to turn off muzzle flash in the game’s settings, upsetting players who feel they are being punished by an unnecessary handicap. Apex Legends originally gave players the option to turn off muzzle flash in the game settings, making it easier for players to see the opponents they were firing at when aiming down their sights. However, June’s 1.2 update saw this option taken out of the game, and since then players have been complaining that the muzzle flash makes it almost impossible to see what you’re aiming at, especially at lower FPS. Apex players are firing blind There have been a number of posts on Reddit complaining about the constant weapon effects, and it seems most players are pretty sick of it. “There are better ways to balance a game other than muzzle flash,” Reddit user Xayzac wrote. “But this is borderline disgusting” Another user, Cassiopeia93, even provided a video that shows how difficult the flash can make what should be a simple fight, calling it “ridiculous.”. In the clip, Cassiopeia93 has the high ground, and is firing down a ridge towards an opponent running underneath them. While the enemy is easily visible when they’re not firing, the moment Cassiopeia93 begins to unload bullets on his foe, it becomes impossible to see him, with the player essentially guessing as to the location of the opponent. Read More: What happens if you play with hackers in Apex Legends? Respawn reveal new anti-cheat strategy – This actually allowed the weakened enemy to escape momentarily, as Cassiopeia93 was forced to stop firing so they can figure out where the other player has gone. It’s not just players expressing their frustrations with the issue, with popular streamer Dr Disrespect raging about the game’s gun effects, labelling them as a “disaster” following a death. Former Overwatch pro player Brandon ‘Seagull’ Larned had a similar reaction, yelling that he couldn’t see his opponent when he lost what looked to be a simple 1v1 gunfight. Will Respawn Entertainment address the issue? While Respawn’s decision to remove the Muzzle Flash toggle makes it clear that they intend to force players to play with it, fans of the game are crying out for the developers to at least tone it down. Others have suggested that the Stabilizer attachment could be used to reduce muzzle flash, but this would mean it remains in the game, something not everybody would be enthusiastic about. Respawn have yet to address the complaints made by players, but it’s possible they may listen to criticism of muzzle flash if players, streamers, and fans continue to complain.

  • Apex Legends players slam Revenant Uprising LTM as the “worst ever” – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam Revenant Uprising LTM as the “worst ever” Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends player base is split over the new Revenant Uprising LTM, with some fans calling it the “worst ever” mode. Following the conclusion of the Post Malone collaboration event, Apex Legends revealed the Uprising Collection event which features a Prestige skin for Loba. Alongside this new premium cosmetic, developer Respawn Entertainment unveiled the Revenant Uprising LTM which acts as a type of Infected game mode for the battle royale. Unfortunately, not every Apex Legends player is thrilled with the new LTM, with some even calling it the “worst ever” following its introduction. Apex Legends players roast Revenant Uprising LTM A post on the Apex Legends subreddit sparked a discussion among the community, after one fan asked, “So we’re in agreement that this is the worst LTM ever, right?” The OP further added: “Did they even playtest this? I adore dying every 5 seconds and respawning 10 miles away.” For those who may not be familiar with the new mode, Revenant Uprising where a handful of players start as Revent while other squads try to survive the onslaught and reach the extraction point. Unfortunately, some players who begin as Revenant can go entire games without even encountering enemy squads, leading to some fans just traversing the map for the duration of the game. “I played it once as soon as it launched, got given Rev. Spent first 5 minutes running around clueless not finding anyone, then spend the next time getting killed (shot) before I can get to anyone, then just in the last 2 minutes I finally got a couple kills,” explained one player. While this LTM is only around for a few days, some guessed the mode wouldn’t even be populated by the last half of its runtime. “When the time gated cinematic is over, I expect this LTM to be a desert in 3 days. Queue, get Rev army, quit, re-queue will be the marching order of 80% of the lobbies, driving this mode into dust,” guessed one player. Additionally, players have cited poor respawn points and balance issues as problems with the game mode. On top of that, many were simply eager to see Three Strikes return soon. Revenant Uprising is set to stay in the rotation for a handful of days at a time until it completely disappears on January 1, 2024, at 10 AM PT.

  • Apex Legends players slam Respawn as The Finals devs address aim assist in one month – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam Respawn as The Finals devs address aim assist in one month Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has slammed developer Respawn after The Finals creator addressed aim assist in its game in about a month. Apex Legends has had the community crying out for years at this point to address some of, what they say, are overpowered aspects of controller players. Apex has been out since 2019 and Respawn has not addressed aim assist for controller players to the extent that the community thinks it needs to. The Finals, a newly released title that has some crossover in player base, has addressed aim assist for controller players recently. The developer, Embark Studios, said it used data from matches and saw that controller players were in fact at an advantage versus mouse and keyboard players. Apex players have taken issue with Respawn neglecting similar complaints over the last five years, while The Finals has seemingly fixed the same problem in less than a month after release. Reddit post slams Respawn over aim assist in Apex In a post to the Competitive Apex subreddit titled “The Finals developers make Aim Assist changes one month into the game. Why can’t respawn?” a user showcased The Finals patch that addressed aim assist. “It’s not they can’t but they don’t want to, and not only about aim assist, but also configs,” one user replied. “Because they don’t want the 70% or so of their player base who use controller to raise their pitchforks and cry all at once,” another user said. Respawn has communicated with its community that it is looking into making changes to aim assist, but that it will take a long time to go through the code and put it in a good spot. In the meantime, controller aim assist is so ingrained in the game at the top level that most professional teams run controller players for certain weapons, like SMGs, for better DPS. The Finals is a different type of game compared to Apex, a Battle Royale, and still has some aspects of aim assist like aim in snap and controller aim assist. However, The Finals devs addressed the issue by looking at data, which proved controller players were playing better, and tweaking its code in seemingly record time.

  • Apex Legends players slam Respawn after quick fix for packs but not servers – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam Respawn after quick fix for packs but not servers Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are frustrated after Respawn rolled out a patch to fix a bug affecting packs, but have still not found a solution to the server issues. Beginning on October 12, the Monsters Within event has kicked off Apex Legends and there’s a variety of spooky cosmetics for players to collect. Although there’s been a lot of excitement within the community in the lead-up to Halloween, some players are struggling to enjoy the event due to server issues. Despite calls for an “Operation Health” update and players planning a boycott, Respawn has claimed a patch dedicated to fixing bugs, glitches, and server health would not be possible. Now, after fixing a bug that was affecting item probabilities in Halloween packs, players are slamming Respawn for not prioritizing server issues. Apex Legends players continue to call for fix to servers Shortly after rolling out the Monsters Within event, Respawn took to Twitter to reveal that they’d had to patch a bug affecting the probabilities of items in the Halloween packs. According to them, packs were dropping more rare loot than they should have done, but they congratulated anyone that benefited from the issue. Despite this, players didn’t have a positive reaction to the tweet, claiming that the devs were quick to fix a problem with packs, but had no interest in addressing server issues. A thread quickly rose to the top of the Apex Legends subreddit with countless angry players voicing their frustration over the bugs and server issues they were experiencing. It’s obvious there’s a lot of anger in the Apex community when it comes to the state of the game’s servers. Although the pack bug was definitely a problem that needed to be fixed, players believe there are more significant issues affecting the title. With no response from the devs, all players can do is keep their fingers crossed that Respawn is doing its best to address the gameplay bugs and server issues.

  • Apex Legends players slam “pitiful” Ash buff in Sun Squad Collection Event – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam “pitiful” Ash buff in Sun Squad Collection Event Respawn EntertainmentAsh received a buff in Apex Legends’ Sun Squad Collection Event update, but many players think it wasn’t enough to make her worth playing again. Ash mains had been pleading for a buff for most of her lifespan, and Respawn is finally giving them what they wanted in the Sun Squad Collection Event. The boost arrived in the form of boosting her Arc Snare tactical, making it travel faster and increasing the chance that it would nab its intended target. That was a common request on its own, but there are still many that think the Incisive Instigator needed more than that to be viable, and one player highlighted a major issue with the ability as a whole. Ash’s new Apex Legends buff details As pointed out by lilakey on Reddit, Ash’s tactical is a one-handed ability. In Apex Legends, that typically comes with some perks. Other Legends use one-handed abilities while sprinting, reloading, or healing just fine. Ash, on the other hand, can’t do any of these things, drastically impacting how useful it can be in high-pressure situations. There’s no denying that buff was a big improvement to that ability, but the community still thinks there’s room for their favorite Simulacrum to grow. “It felt like a pretty pitiful buff for a character that hasn’t been relevant really ever. I wish it could have been more, making it similar to these might make her a little more enticing to play,” one passionate fan commented. Another added that they wanted to see her ultimate ability range get extended, as well as maybe given a marker to determine how far it’s going to take the caster. “When her ult cuts short, it gets you killed. That’s likely one of the main reasons she’s not used in competitive.” The buff won’t land in-game until March 28, but the early reviews have drawn a clear consensus around the latest Heirloom-wielding Legend’s chance of joining the meta.

  • Apex Legends players slam “overpriced” skin recolors again with Golden Week Sale – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam “overpriced” skin recolors again with Golden Week Sale Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends is a game filled with cool cosmetics, but their distribution has always been a point of contention. Players are criticizing Respawn again for the cost associated with buying recolors of existing skins. Not only is Apex Legends overflowing with vast worlds and colorful characters, but it’s also brimming with a whole collection of vibrant cosmetics. With Legacy, the title’s ninth season, set to introduce some Titanfall-inspired skins into the game to accompany Valkyrie, the hype is real. However, as Season 8 comes to a close with the War Games event and Golden Week Sale, fans have once again called out the developers for their monetization of cosmetics, particularly recolors. Apex fans criticize skin “sales” While fans have always made their feelings clear on the costs associated with buying skins, a mixture of the War Games Event and a lackluster Golden Week Sale has stirred up controversy yet again. With one post slamming the price of Wraith’s “recolor” ‘Queen’s Guard’ War Games skin garnering 2.4k upvotes, and another attacking the Golden Week skins earning 13.2k votes, fans are not letting this issue go away. While it’s important to note that the latter post was not removed by Respawn, despite claims to the contrary, a glance at the comments show that fans are really not happy with these latest recolor prices. One respondent writes “I would spend so much money on Apex if they had a half decent store,” while another admits “I would LOVE to support this game with my money, but apparently they only care for the whales, so I end up missing out on cool things unless they come with the BP or I can somehow craft them.” Can Respawn fix the store? Two years in and there’s been little effort from the developers to look into how the store works, but some fans have put forward interesting suggestions. Many have compared the store’s current situation to Fortnite, with one commenter noting “say what you want about Fortnite, but its shop is great.” Comparing the cost of Fortnite’s cosmetics to Apex’s, many argue that the rival battle royale is “super cheap.” While many members of the community don’t want Fortnite’s gameplay transferred into Apex, it’s clear that Epic Games have cracked the monetary code to urge players to buy skins. Will Respawn learn from this? Only time will tell, but with Season 9 around the corner and the skins already set, we might be looking at a fix in Season 10 at the earliest.

  • Apex Legends players slam ‘loot bandits’ ruining Season 13 Armory locations – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam ‘loot bandits’ ruining Season 13 Armory locations Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling for a big change to the new Season 13 IMC Armories that would keep the loot thieves away and make using the feature more viable. Armories give players an alternate way to level up their gear other than running around the map and scouring every possible building and box. These one-stop shops contain everything a player needs to get stocked up and ready to dive into the action. When players play by the rules it’s a surefire way to ramp up a squad’s power, but the lack of structure is ultimately their fatal flaw according to the community. Apex Legends players call for big change to Season 13 Armories The problem isn’t in the fighting portion of the experience but in the looting that happens afterward While each player gets their own lootbox with personalized attachments and gear inside, any other player in the game can loot from your box once it has been opened. This is allowing loot bandits to swoop in and take away valuable items from their rightful owners. One player proposed an easy fix in making these locations work like the Replicator, where looting requires either a moderate amount of time to pass or a ping from the person who spent the materials. This has proven to be a popular idea, as others in the community have shared their early horror stories with the current system. One player pointed out that the only real strategy to fight against this is to play the patience game with anyone they don’t trust: “This happened so many times for me. I usually have to wait a long while because there would just be a guy standing there waiting for me to open my box. ” The only other alternative is to attempt to race for your loot, but another commenter pointed out that this doesn’t always work out either. “The crazy s**t is that, for some reason, the person behind has better chance of getting it,” they said. It’s not a change that will change the game to a major degree, but it would go a long way toward making players more comfortable taking advantage of the new resource.

  • Apex Legends players slam “infuriating” Three Strikes LTM respawn glitch – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam “infuriating” Three Strikes LTM respawn glitch Respawn/EAApex Legends fans are fed up with one “infuriating” glitch on the Three Strikes LTM that respawns them in the middle of the map no matter what. Apex Legends’ Three Strikes LTM has been a big hit with the community, with many calling on developer Respawn Entertainment to make it a permanent addition to the game. Unfortunately, the new LTM is not without its quirks and hiccups, like an annoying exploit players discovered that lets squads kill knocked players. Now, Apex Legends fans have vented that frustrations at yet another “infuriating” glitch that has cropped up in Three Strikes, which has seemingly cost many squads their games. Apex Legends vent frustrations over Three Strikes respawn glitch A post on the Apex Legends subreddit brought the glitch to the community’s attention. The OP included a screenshot of the glitch in action, showing members of their squad were teleported directly to the center of Olympus, despite the storm having already taken over a majority of the map. They explained, “Literally cost us the game, because the game decided to respawn 2/3 of our team including me in the center of the map instead of with our other teammate.” According to other commenters, this isn’t an isolated incident, as they too claimed to have games ruined by this respawn glitch. “Happened about 10 times to me in the past 24 hours, said one player. “When it happens on Stormpoint it glitches me into a rock so I die every strike. Very infuriating.” Some players claimed that Valkyrie was the reason these respawn issues were happening in Three Strikes, with some arguing that Respawn should “force disable her” until the glitch is fixed. One fan argued that, while “annoying” Three Strikes specifically makes it fairly easy to recover from this glitch. “All you have to do is continually revive yourself in a staggered manner. Since you get sooo much health on revive in this mode….you could technically just stagger revive all the way through ring to your teammate.” While it may be recoverable, it’s undoubtedly still frustrating to have a match ruined by something outside the player’s control. With the Three Strikes LTM set to end in the coming days, it’s unclear if this glitch will be fixed before the game mode is gone for good.

  • Apex Legends players slam “grindy” Season 7 Battle Pass – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam “grindy” Season 7 Battle Pass Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Season 7 may have introduced an exciting new map and Legend to the game, but the new Battle Pass system is being heavily criticized by the community. The much-anticipated Season 7 of Apex Legends has arrived. Players are exploring the new map whilst getting grips with Horizon, Apex’s latest Legend to be added to the roster. Alongside these major additions, Season 7 introduced a new Battle Pass system to the game involving the collection of ‘Battle Stars’. Unfortunately, this new system has been labeled as unrewarding and “grindy” by the community. Ascension Battle Pass labeled as unrewarding A thread posted to the Apex Legends subreddit criticizing the Season 7 Battle Pass has received nearly 10,000 upvotes. The majority of the criticism aimed towards the Battle Pass revolves around the new ‘Battle Star’ System: “these new challenges and battle star system is extremely grindy…I’ve finished all of my daily quests and I still haven’t levelled from 1-2.” For developers, finding a middle-ground between a satisfying challenge and worthwhile rewards is key in keeping players engaged. It’s obvious that Respawn’s Season 7 Battle Pass is imbalanced and may need to be addressed. The thread continues, going into detail on the differences between this Season’s Battle Pass and the previous: “It takes 10k xp to get 1 star… so 100k xp for 1 BP lvl. Previous BP xp track was 9/18/27/36/54… so basically we’re getting 1 BP lvl for every 4 we would have gotten last season.” It appears Respawn have significantly increased the grind between Battle Pass levels. This is disappointing for players who had become accustomed to the unlock tracks of the previous Seasons. Of course, players wouldn’t be complaining as much if the Battle Pass was offering rewards that were worth the increased grind time. However, the post describes Season 7’s Battle Pass rewards as mediocre and encourages Respawn to address the issue. A few displeased commenters on the thread have directly accused Respawn of making the changes for increased monetary gain: “They’re doing it on purpose to try and get as much money as possible from the new influx of players from Steam.” Another wrote: “played for just over an hour and finished 3 dailies… this is a terrible idea.” With the thread continuing to garner more upvotes, it will likely get the attention of Respawn, who always have their ear to the ground for community feedback. The question is, will they choose to fix the Battle Pass and implement a more satisfying system? Unfortunately, no one has the answer to that question at the moment.

  • Apex Legends players slam “grindy” Ranked Reloaded changes in Season 13 – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam “grindy” Ranked Reloaded changes in Season 13 RespawnApex Legends players are calling for Respawn to adjust Season 13’s Ranked Reloaded changes, as many have claimed the mode is already far too “grindy.” Season 13 of Apex Legends began less than a week ago on May 10, but players are already asking for some big changes. Just recently, members of the Apex Legends subreddit called for Respawn to adjust how solo queue works in Season 13, with many complaining about low RP gains. Now, players are once again slamming new adjustments, this time honing in on Ranked Reloaded changes in a recent Reddit post, with some calling it “too grindy.” The post in question from Reddit user ‘ShooterMcGavin000’ shows a graph of the current percentage of the player base in each respective rank. The graph was pulled from ApexLegendsStatus.com, which keeps an ongoing tracker of a variety of public stats within the game. A large portion of Rookie and Bronze IV players can be seen in this graph, with a slow descent into the further ranks. The majority of the player base seems evenly split in Bronze and Silver, with a pretty large drop-off in Gold and very few players in Platinum. Thus, it appears to indicate how players seem to be struggling to break into the higher ranks early on in Season 13, with many taking a while to get out of Bronze. Dozens were quick to echo that same sentiment in the comments, with user “Id0ntunderstandj0kes” claiming that despite being out for less than a week, the graph shows that Season 13’s Ranked Reloaded is “too grindy” to rank up. Of course, not all players shared that same opinion. Many instead claimed the graph only looks that way because it has been less than one week since Season 13 began. Others argued this spread looks healthier than other seasons, with no large clumps of players getting stuck in Gold IV or Platinum IV. Regardless of where you fall on the debate, Respawn will undoubtedly be keeping a close eye on how things shake out during this first Ranked split in Season 13.

  • Apex Legends players slam “greedy” Collection Event bundles: “Awful value” – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam “greedy” Collection Event bundles: “Awful value” Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have slammed the “greedy” Christmas-themed skins in the store that are locked behind bundles. Apex Legends’ Wintertide Collection Event arrived on December 6 and introduced the Winter Express LTM, the mythic Wraith Prestige skin, and a set of fresh badges to unlock. Despite these exciting features, the main attraction for the majority of the community was the new and returning winter-themed cosmetics that hit the store in the update. A lot of these OG and older skins are only available for a limited time over Christmas, so players are desperate to get their hands on them while they can. Unfortunately, all of these non-Collection Event skins are locked behind bundles that the community has slammed as “awful value” and “greedy”. Apex players callout Respawn for “greedy” skin bundles Apex Legends players have taken to the subreddit to complain about the non-Collection Event skins that are locked behind bundles, forcing them to spend over £20 for a cosmetic. According to them, “no one wants to pay” for packs as they’re “awful value”, so pushing players to spend more by locking Christmas skins behind bundles proves “Respawn will never learn their lesson”. It’s clear players want the option to purchase a single skin on its own without any extra packs that push up the price. Labeling the store practices as “greedy”, it’s obvious the community is losing patience. Not only that, it frustrates players that a lot of these non-Collection Event skins locked in bundles are just “lazy” recolors that come back every single year. As expected, not everyone agrees with the criticism, with some users arguing that the “game is free… I won’t pay $25 for these but I’ll never understand the outrage about this stuff.” Either way, this debate seems to crop up with every in-game event and will likely continue until Respawn comment on the issue or change their store model. However, with cosmetics being so popular and sought-after, that seems extremely unlikely.

  • Apex Legends players slam “garbage” servers as timeouts cost them ranks – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam “garbage” servers as timeouts cost them ranks Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are growing increasingly frustrated with server issues in the popular battle royale, with some taking hits in Ranked mode because of consistent timeouts. Respawn’s hit battle royale Apex Legends has continually risen in popularity since its release in 2019, with everyone from casual gamers to big-name streamers now counting it as their multiplayer game of choice. Despite this – and even though it’s an incredibly lucrative title for EA and Respawn – there are still major issues with Apex’s servers, which typically gets amplified around seasonal updates and patch releases. Since the v10.1 patch was released on September 14, the Apex Legends subreddit has been swamped with multiple posts calling on Respawn to do something about the game’s servers and fix issues like lagging and timeouts. “I don’t even bother playing on season launch anymore because I know that if I do, I’m restarting my application 40 times and losing all my RP,” wrote one player on a thread with 8,000 upvotes and hundreds of comments. Read More: New Apex Legends Arenas map ‘Encore’ leaked – While some players are unable to get into matches at all, those who do have experienced timeouts that leave them with double loss points in Ranked, as Apex Legends gives penalties for ‘abandoning’ the match. “Fix your damn servers. I have lost -192 RP in a row,” wrote Reddit user originalmuffins. “You should give people back their hard-earned RP. There should be something that indicates if someone is trying to reconnect and it won’t let them.” Another Apex Legends player added: “I’ve had several -96 games. Don’t know why I keep trying. I was diamond 3 and now I’m at the bottom of 4 lol. No point in playing until the season restarts at this rate.” Respawn devs acknowledged that an “unusual amount” of players were experiencing issues in a tweet on September 15, promising that their team “will keep working until we’ve got things back to normal”. We’re still seeing an unusual amount of @playapex players timing out when attempting to connect to matches—our team will keep working until we’ve got things back to normal. We’ll keep you posted. — Respawn (@Respawn) September 15, 2021 In a follow-up tweet, Respawn explained that they were still experiencing issues with timeouts in Apex and said they will issue an update to players when they have “meaningful news” to share. For now, players will just have to sit tight and hope that the server issues are fixed sooner rather than later.

  • Apex Legends players slam “cringe” Legendary stickers in cosmetic Packs – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam “cringe” Legendary stickers in cosmetic Packs Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are fed up with Legendary stickers diluting the reward pool following the Shadow Society event. The debate surrounding Apex Legends’ cosmetic Packs has been around for quite some time, with many players growing continuously frustrated with the battle royale’s monetization practices. This has only grown since the introduction of the sticker cosmetics, which were added to Apex Legends in Season 15. It seems the debate may have reached a tipping point with Season 20, however, after fans have called out the introduction of Legendary stickers through Shadow Society event packs. “Putting stickers in loot boxes as ‘legendary’ just to dilute the already diluted pool is still cringe af. Basically a scam,” argued one player, who explained that the only event Pack they purchased rewarded them with a Legendary sticker set. Fans in the comments voiced their frustration with the event and compared it to another controversial past event: the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth crossover. “Worst event to date, at least in the Final Fantasy event you could buy some of the skins you wanted directly, here they force you to gamble via Packs,” said one player. Others argued that those who purchase cosmetic Packs in the first place have no right to complain about their rewards. “Event packs have odds, they show the odds and contents,” one fan argued. “They’re not scamming you, you scammed yourself thinking ‘I’m gonna spend money on this and get the stuff I want, no doubt.’” While it’s true that Apex Legends has introduced more and more cosmetic items aside from skins into the overall cosmetic Pack pool, the battle royale is upfront about the odds for Apex Packs.

  • Apex Legends players slam “crazy” prices in Fight or Fright event – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam “crazy” prices in Fight or Fright event The Apex Legends community is getting ready for another in-game event, Fight or Fright, dropping on October 15, but it looks like another controversy is brewing over the price of event-exclusive cosmetics and packs. As it’s free-to-play, Apex relies on in-game monetization as its sole source of revenue but has been criticized in the past for its microtransaction systems, particularly in the most recent event, Iron Crown. Respawn responded to the criticism and admitted that they had “missed the mark”, by making Apex packs the only way players could obtain the new character skins. The Fight or Fright event was announced on October 7, and while there’s a lot to be excited about, particularly the return of Kings Canyon at night, there has been a noticeable backlash to the cosmetic prices, which have also been announced. In a positive move, all the items will be available for direct purchase, but with a legendary costing 1,800 coins (~$18), and event packs are also set to cost considerably more than the standard Apex packs – seven times as much to be exact, costing 700 coins. One fan wrote: “They make the microtransaction model SO BAD that you never spend your money anyway,” as another added: “Those are some spooky prices.” The concern about the inflated price for event packs vs regular packs is also a major talking point, with the price hike of $1 to $7 deemed exorbitant by many. Lifeline Heirloom could come at a scary cost Perhaps more egregious still, though, is that the new Lifeline Heirloom is only available to players who somehow manage to earn, or more likely buy, every cosmetic in the collection. It will be available later, after the event ends, in Apex packs, but it makes ‘earning’ it during the event a very daunting (or expensive) task, with the total cost of every cosmetic via direct purchase a hefty $168. Whether adjustments will be made in the event following the feedback from players remains to be seen, but considering this system has been devised post-Iron Crown controversy, it would seem they’re satisfied with the changes made. The event begins on October 15, and runs until November 5, meaning players have just under a month to try to unlock as many of the cosmetics as they can.

  • Apex Legends players slam controller configs as player proves how OP they are – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam controller configs as player proves how OP they are Electronic ArtsAfter a tutorial showcasing how overpowered they can be released, Apex Legends players have called out controller configs on social media. The debate between controller vs. mouse and keyboard in Apex Legends seems to be over as the community has come to believe using the sticks is superior thanks to Steam controller configurations. Players can use the system to help make strafing, looting and even shooting much easier for those using a controller, compared to a mouse and keyboard. While this sentiment has existed for a while, the death nail in the debate has ended as a YouTube tutorial for various configs has been showcased on social media. Part of the tutorial was posted by Treeree, an Apex Legends content creator, and saw multiple pros and prominent players slam the video and configs in general. Apex Legends controller configs OP The YouTube tutorial was posted two weeks ago at the time of writing and has about 14,000 views. The video shows players what the configs the creator has made for the controller on Steam, including neo strafing, no recoil, move and look, and even 180-degree turn configurations. Viewers would need to join the YouTuber’s Discord to get the actual configuration set up to add to their Steam profile. “Steam configs need to be replaced with something else,” Treeree said in his post about the tutorial. Multiple pros responded to the video saying that these kinds of configs basically constitute cheating. “How tf is this sh** allowed in Apex lol,” TSM pro Jordan ‘Reps’ Wolfe said. “How is this not bannable? @PlayApex wake up,” Alliance Apex pro John ‘Hakis’ Håkansson also added. Respawn has not commented on the video and based on the developer’s previous track record around controller conifgs in its game, the practice will most likely remain in place.

  • Apex Legends players slam even “more broken” matchmaking as Respawn promise fixes soon – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam even “more broken” matchmaking as Respawn promise fixes soon RespawnFrustrated Apex Legends players continue to criticize the game’s matchmaking, describing it as “more broken” than ever and eagerly anticipating promised fixes from Respawn. Matchmaking has been a hot topic in the Apex Legends community for some time, with fans debating the pros and cons of skill-based matchmaking and, more importantly, its reliability in Respawn’s battle royale. Specifically, players have become increasingly frustrated at the matchmaking’s tendency to place players of wildly different skill levels together. It has prompted detailed explanations of matchmaking from devs, as well as a more recent promise that Respawn will “fix” the inconsistencies showing in Season 15. However, it doesn’t appear to have improved thus far, with disgruntled players sharing their experiences of being woefully mismatched in Apex Legends matches. Apex Legends matchmaking under fire in Season 15 – again In a November 11 Reddit post, one player shared an image of the number 22 ranked Apex Predator in a standard Gold lobby. Naturally, the Apex Predator was far too good for their opponents and reportedly dominated the competition. The player in question asked: “Is this common? If so, I’d tend to believe this will ruin ranked gameplay for lower ranks. Matchmaking needs to be worked on.” The post garnered considerable attention from like-minded Apex Legends fans, many of whom shared similar moments of frustration and their own experiences of encountering players of a far greater skill level. Some also reported the situation worsening recently, with one fan commenting: “I went the first 10 seasons of Apex without ever seeing a Predator and in the last 4 seasons I’ve seen 100+ as a platinum player. Something is definitely not working right.” Respawn have previously committed to sorting the problems, but have not put a timescale on the adjustments. With Season 15 set to be the longest season for a while, plenty are hoping for changes ahead of Season 16.

  • Apex Legends players slam “annoying” Lightning Rod audio on Storm Point – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam “annoying” Lightning Rod audio on Storm Point Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are frustrated over the loud noises coming from the Lightning Rod POI while playing on the Storm Point map. While the Incisive Instigator Ash and the lethal CAR SMG have been praised by the Apex Legends community in Season 11, it’s the tropical Storm Point map that the community is enjoying most. With breathtaking landscapes, unique POIs, and a dose of danger with the wildlife nests, Respawn has knocked it out of the park with Storm Point. Despite this, the map hasn’t been faultless since launch, with players instantly dying in certain places due to bugged death spots. Not only that, the community has begun to complain about loud noises coming from the Lightning Rod POI, that can be heard from across the map. Apex Legends players frustrated over loud Lightning Rod POI Taking to the Apex University subreddit, user aphrotittie created a thread asking about the strange noises that occur while playing on the Storm Point map. Complaining that they’re “sick and tired” of asking what the sound is, they wondered if any other Apex players knew the source. It didn’t take long for players to figure out the answer, revealing that is in fact the Lightning Rod POI causing the loud audio cues in-game. According to users on the thread, the sound echoes across half the map and can be heard multiple times throughout a match: “Drop lightning rod and see if it’s the sound you’re thinking of – it echoes over half the damn map”. While some were just curious about the noises, others have described it as the worst part about Storm Point, encouraging Respawn to remove it: “The Sound the damn lightning rod makes when it’s struck is one of the worst things on storm point. Annoying to the max”. As the audio isn’t affecting the gameplay in Apex, it’s extremely unlikely that the devs will consider removing Lightning Rod’s loud noises. A potential alternative would be to make it so you can only hear the blasts when you’re in the POI, but this definitely won’t be a priority for Respawn anytime soon.

  • Apex Legends players want simple skins feature borrowed from Overwatch – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want simple skins feature borrowed from Overwatch Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling for Respawn to add a simple quality of life skin feature that’s borrowed from Overwatch. This would make navigating the cosmetics menus a lot easier and allow players to find what they’re looking for faster. With Apex Legends releasing all the way back in February of 2019, it’s fair to say Respawn has built up a large catalog of cosmetics for players to collect. From Legend skins to gun charms to voice lines, there’s no shortage of customization in Apex Legends. However, despite Respawn implementing superb new cosmetics every single season, the menus players have to use to browse them can be extremely frustrating to navigate. Luckily, players have come up with a solution for Respawn and it’s borrowed from Blizzard’s hero-shooter, Overwatch. Apex players call for Overwatch skin feature to be added A thread posted to the Apex Legends subreddit suggesting the addition of a new skin feature borrowed from Overwatch has garnered over 6,000 upvotes. Although an incredibly simple concept, it has the potential to dramatically improve Apex’s cosmetic menus. Currently, all of a player’s owned skins and cosmetics on Apex are scattered across a long list that is difficult to navigate. As the game has been out since 2019, these lists of cosmetics are only getting bigger and bigger. As the thread suggests, players are calling for Respawn to borrow a feature from Overwatch in which player’s owned skins are all listed at the top of the menu. Not only would this feature save time, but it would also make it a lot easier for players to keep track of which skins they actually own. There’s no denying that big content updates should always be the priority for Respawn, but sometimes the community just wants to see some simple quality of life features that improve the overall experience. Read More: Caustic Town Takeover leaked for Season 8 – This is certainly a concept the developers should consider adding in the near future, especially with the influx of new skins added with Season 8.

  • Apex Legends players still waiting for specific new weapon after 5 years – Dexerto

Apex Legends players still waiting for specific new weapon after 5 years Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have been left baffled by the fact that it’s been five years since the battle royale launched and there hasn’t been a new pistol or shotgun added to the mix at any point. When February 4 rolls around, it’ll have been five years since Respawn Entertainment first dropped Apex Legends onto the gaming world and changed the battle royale genre in a pretty massive way. Those last five years have been chock full of changes, including a massive amount of new Legends, new maps to cause havoc on, and, of course, a whole host of new weapons to do that destruction with as well. New weapons had been a regular addition with each new season, but that has slowed down in recent updates. Two weapon types that have been regularly changed but have yet to see a new type added are pistols and shotguns – and, well, players have had enough after five years of waiting. Apex Legends players want new pistol or shotgun soon That’s right, in the five years that Apex Legends has been around, there hasn’t been a new close-quarters gun added and players want that to change – calling it “crazy” that is the case. “Praying we get a double barrel shotgun or a burst firing pistol next season,” one Redditor said. “I really wanted something like the nemesis but as a pistol,” commented one annoyed player. “I don’t care what anyone says, we need akimbo pistols,” another said. Some players pointed out that there have been leaked pistols over the last few years, including the Smart Pistol from Titanfall. “Monkey’s Paw grants Apex the Smart Pistol,” joked one player. Others argued that the weapon pool has always been in a solid enough position that there hasn’t been any need for a new pistol or shotgun. “We already have 4 shotguns that serve different purposes and act differently, and doing double barrel would just be the double tap when it was broken,” one noted. As mentioned, there have been leaked pistols in the past, so it’s clearly something the devs have considered. Though, who knows if they’ll ever actually make it into the game.

  • Apex Legends players sick of “obnoxious” Horizon ability – Dexerto

Apex Legends players sick of “obnoxious” Horizon ability Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are hitting out with their frustrations, claiming they’re sick and tired of Horizion’s “obnoxious” tactical ability. Whether it be for balancing reasons, or attempting to shift the game’s meta, since Apex Legend’s release the Respawn devs have tweaked and changed just about every Legend. It’s nothing new that some Legends are loved or hated more than others. However, players have consistently had issues with Horizon, particularly for her tactical ability. Apex players lash out at “obnoxious” Horizon ability In a Reddit post on February 12, one Apex Legends player kicked off a discussion surrounding Horizon and her tactical ability, Gravity Lift. “Horizon’s tactical is exceptionally obnoxious,” the player wrote. “I hate everything about Gravity Lift.” “I feel like it does too much and has too little risk for the massive impact it has,” they explained. They continued: “Horizon’s tactical isn’t even meant to be used like a panic button, yet people are using it to immediately float away whenever they’re in trouble. Gravity Lift should get the same treatment as Wraith; the tactical should take a significant amount of time to activate. “This effectively encourages Horizon to think about her ability usage more, it won’t ruin pushes on a team since the windup time won’t matter. Easy solution, it’ll make Horizon a much more bearable and fair legend in my eyes.” In the replies, it appears others are also annoyed with Horizon’s Gravity Lift, with several players agreeing it’s a strong ability. “The worst is when you’re chasing a Horizon, and she uses her lift up and for some reason, you can’t follow up the lift,” said one. “I don’t think that synergy with abilities should be frowned upon, but I do think that her tactical is very strong,” another wrote. Regardless, the ability isn’t nearly as bad as it used to be, as one pointed out Horizon’s tactical was previously much stronger than it currently is today. “And she used to be even worse than she is now is the crazy thing, she would insta-zoom to the top and could just sit on top of it and wiggle back and forth, it was near impossible to hit,” one player explained. In the past, we’ve seen some Legends get a complete rework, such as when Revenant saw a complete overhaul in Season 18, while others get more simple tweaks.

  • Apex Legends players shocked as one Vantage player defined Season 19 meta – Dexerto

Apex Legends players shocked as one Vantage player defined Season 19 meta Respawn EntertainmentSeason 19 of Apex Legends is behind us, but that doesn’t stop new stats from sharing this startling fact on which Legend “reigned” supreme in kills. Apex Legends‘ Season 19 certainly felt like a long one for players, although highlights such as the Post Malone event softened the experience for many. With Season 20 here there’s a lot to look forward to, including reworks to Ranked, a complete overhaul to the Legends and armor systems, and much more. Now that Season 19 is behind us, a new stat reveals a startling fact on which Legend dominated the game, and it’s one that not many would’ve guessed. Apex Legends Season 19 Legend skills reveal Vantage on top Apex Tracker shared a look at how the Legends stacked up in Season 19. Titled “Most BR Kills Per Legend,” Vantage shockingly led the way by a large margin with 52,164 kills during the season. Meanwhile, Fuse sat at the bottom with 7,023 kills. For clarity, this stat counts the most kills by one player using said Legend, not by the entire community, and only consists of players who had seasonal trackers equipped. That said, the owner of this record belongs to content creator Bear22345. The news made it to the Apex Legends subreddit, and it caught many by surprise. “With how many people actually play Vantage…I don’t believe this for a second,” one player remarked. They later realized it was possible, provided Bear earned a measly 600 kills a day. However, some Vantage players found refuge and validity in their main’s performance. “As a Vantage main, this feels validating,” one player said. One other replied: “Warms my heart, I main Valk and Vantage.” Another said: “I’m a Vantage main, and I’ve been saying this all season that Vantage is super underrated. Vantage, clearly a superior legend.” They went on to elaborate on the pros of the sniper turned Apex Games contestant, such as her dominance of medium-to-long-range encounters. Season 20 just started, and with the content shake-up, it’ll be interesting to see how this narrative changes come season end.

  • Apex Legends players share the nerfs they hate the most – Dexerto

Apex Legends players share the nerfs they hate the most Apex LegendsApex Legends players are sharing their most-hated nerfs that have come to the game over the years. Despite the core gameplay largely staying the same, Apex Legends has received plenty of changes over the years. Much of this has to do with tweaking the various characters and their abilities that people can choose for each match. Apex Legends players are now sharing the nerfs to these characters, called Legends, that they have disliked the most. Apex Legends players share their least-favorite nerfs The conversation is happening over on the Apex Legends subreddit, in a post that asks the simple question: “What nerfs have made you the saltiest?” They detail how their top decision for the question is Lifeline’s revive shield being removed from the game and giving a similar ability to the character Newcastle. They view this change as being too much, but also give an answer for something that isn’t enough: “I’m also kind of salty about Bangalore’s smoke being nerfed to stay for… 18 seconds instead of 23. Because it did nothing and she needs more nerfs.” The community was quick to give their answers, with the top comment saying: “Mirage losing the ability to bamboozle all damage. I miss throwing a decoy into a caustic gas barrel so I know where to throw my 6 thermite ‘nades in the building nest.” There are a handful more nerfs that Apex Legends fans offer, and they even reach a point to cause many players to have stopped playing the game entirely. As they explain, “I kinda gave up on Apex for this reason lol, like bruh at least bring back her manual shield revive, the auto revive with a shield was a bit much.” Of course, the devs have their reasons for nerfing these characters, but that rarely is enough to stave off the fans’ disappointment in seeing them.

  • Apex Legends players share buff ideas to “fix” Wattson in Season 11 – Dexerto

Apex Legends players share buff ideas to “fix” Wattson in Season 11 Respawn EntertainmentA host of Apex Legends players have floated their buff concepts for electrifying character Wattson, as the Static Defender continues to prompt discussion in Season 10: Emergence. Despite Respawn’s long-term insistence of Wattson’s viability in Apex Legends, players remain less than convinced. Mains of the Static Defender in particular have been critical of Respawn for failing to buff her meaningfully, arguing she is falling behind a number of the game’s characters. That has not changed into Season 10, with plenty of the game’s community viewing Wattson as one of the most ineffectual legends. Naturally, then, players have been floating their ideas of how Respawn can buff her. The discussion was prompted by Redditor ‘Medium-Natural-638‘, who asked how players would ‘fix’ Wattson. Suggestions varied, but one popular response was to reduce the visibility of her fences, making them easier for unsuspecting enemies to walk into. Ch4osTh3ory said: “Maybe decrease the ability to see her fence as much, I can count on one hand how many times I’ve ran into her fence.” Another common idea was to allow Wattson to place her fences from a much further distance, meaning she’d be more comparable to Caustic. lemmebrowsebro said: “One thing I don’t see suggested often is the range, I’d love to see Watson being able to place fences from a farther distance which would help a lot making her viable and comparable to Caustic. And obviously the cooldown is one of the biggest problems so a much reduced cooldown.” The latter suggestion of a reduced cooldown – essentially meaning she’d be able to place them far more frequently – was also a very popular idea. Another common idea, rather unsurprisingly, was to simply give her more fences. It’s not clear how Respawn will look to buff Wattson – if they look to buff her at all. They have stressed time and time again how much data is taken into account when considering buffs and nerfs, so fan opinion alone may not be enough to force changes through. Her pick rate is undeniably poor though, sitting at 1.5% according to apexlegendsstatus. That’s the joint worst in the game, alongside Crypto. Perhaps we’ll see them both strengthened when Season 11 drops in November.

  • Apex Legends players call for major shakeup to care package weapons – Dexerto

Apex Legends players call for major shakeup to care package weapons Respawn EntertainmentThe current care package weapons were adjusted at the start of Season 11 but now Apex Legends players are calling for further shakeups to the extremely rare airdrop items. Every season brings along new items to the Care Package rotation. In Season 10, we saw the Alternator and Spitfire enter into the pod, and in Season 11 the G7 Scout joined the mix as the Triple Take was rotated out. While the regular change is meant to keep the gameplay fresh all season, some players have already grown tired of the current lineup. Apex Legends player call for Care Package shakeup The major talking point when it comes to these special weapons in Season 11 is the Alternator. Having been in the package for the better part of two seasons, players have grown impatient waiting for the low-recoil submachine gun to come back to the regular loot pool. As one commenter recalled, the gun did get outperformed by its competitors when it was on the ground, but it offered a unique playstyle for the SMG category: “It was my favorite SMG for a really long time. Despite knowing R99 and Volt were essentially better SMGs, Alternator just resonates with me.” On top of that, players in the thread also shared their wishes for the G7 Scout to make its way back to being a ground loot option. One particularly passionate user suggested that the lack of ammo available in the care package version is significantly holding the gun back. “The worst part is care package G7 isn’t even worth picking up with its 120 bullets. Loved that gun before but only pick it up if there are like two other teams left.” While the guns in the care package likely won’t see any change until the debut of Season 12, it’s clear that the community is ready for a major switch-up when the time comes.

  • Apex Legends players say Season 20 is in it’s “prime” for one big reason – Dexerto

Apex Legends players say Season 20 is in it’s “prime” for one big reason XboxApex Legends players claim Season 20 is currently in its “prime” thanks to the Straight Shot LTM. Season 20 was finally released for all on February 13, and while the update didn’t bring any major additions to the battle royale, it was still packed with enough content to give Apex Legends a breath of fresh air. The Straight Shot LTM has stolen the spotlight for many so far. Players are desperate for the Season 20 LTM to stick around, claiming the regular battle royale is “unplayable” in its current state. Nevertheless, players are claiming Straight Shot is the “best mode” ever added to Apex — with some even going as far as to say the game is in its “prime” solely because of the limited-time mode. Apex players claim game is in its “prime” thanks to LTM The Respawn devs have seen a ton of praise for Season 20 since its release, with some claiming it’s the “best yet.” Furthermore, in a Reddit post on February 25, some players claim the Straight Shot LTM makes the game feel like it’s in its “prime.” “Straight Shot is the best mode ever implemented that truly makes you feel like you’re playing Apex in its prime,” one player wrote. “What straight shot allows, is a very fair and instant fun first fight, that if you win, you then immediately still get that battle royale feel of choosing where to go, what POIs and events to hit, and as well and class structure truly mattering.” “I don’t have to loot for 15 minutes, find a single squad, and then get steamrolled,” they explained. The player added: “Time is the most important factor in everyone’s lives and straight shot utilizes it f**king well. Please Respawn, keep Straight Shot.” In the replies to the post, tons of players agreed, with some explaining they get “lost” playing the LTM because of how fun it is. “I get lost in time playing Straight Shot. It’s just that much fun!” one player said. “Straight Shot is awesome! Quick to get kitted guns and straight to the fight,” wrote another. Others called for the devs to take the popular “requeue” feature from the LTM, and apply it to all modes across the battle. While some are more fond of the Three Strikes mode that arrived with the Post Malone crossover, it’s fair to say Straight Shot has been exceptionally well received. However, we can only hope it stays around for good.

  • Apex Legends players roast weapon charm feature ahead of Season 14 – Dexerto

Apex Legends players roast weapon charm feature ahead of Season 14 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are blasting the way weapon charms are selected, pointing out it takes an absurd amount of time to navigate the menu for console players. As one of the most popular battle royale games around, Apex Legends has a ton of skins and cosmetics for players to use. This includes weapon charms, which are extra bits of flair players can throw on weapons. At this point, there are literally hundreds of these to choose from, but finding a specific one can be a challenge for players on console. The video above from Reddit user Rastacha shows the problem, and it quickly went viral on the Apex subreddit soon after being posted. In it, Rasta is searching for one specific weapon charm, and it takes them close to a minute to actually find it from scrolling with a controller. With a mouse and keyboard for PC players, it’s possible to move through the menu faster, but on console this is the max speed available. The absurd amount of time it takes to track down the charm has some players calling for a revamp of the system for Season 14. “All I’m saying is, if we have all these charms can we get a menu option for scroll speed?” one user asked in the comments. Others added that if you select a charm on the list, and then scroll, it goes a bit faster, but still takes a while to get to the end. Some kind of system to sort charms, or an option to increase menu scroll speed, doesn’t seem like it would take a ton of effort, and would be a big quality of life update, but whether or not devs will add something come Season 14 remains to be seen.

  • Apex Legends players ridicule Respawn over “lazy” Battle Pass skins – Dexerto

Apex Legends players ridicule Respawn over “lazy” Battle Pass skins Respawn EntertainmentWhat started as a nostalgic ode to previous seasons to Battle Passes of Apex Legends turned into a roast fest as players ridiculed Respawn Entertainment’s choice of skins in the most recent seasons. In its 11 seasons, Apex Legends has produced a ton of memorable skins for the game’s evergreen roster of characters. While there are tons of ways to get new skins, such as the Item Shop, seasonal events, and Collections, the easiest way to collect skins is the Battle Pass. The game’s seasonal rewards track always comes with a handful of new skins and has been the primary place for players to bulk up their collection since the game’s launch. There have been some notable skins that debuted on the pass in the past, like Wraith’s Demon’s Whisper and Caustic’s Prince of Darkness, but many players are frustrated with the lack of iconic cosmetics in the last few outings. Apex Legends players ridicule Respawn over Battle Pass skins The conversation was sparked by a post that highlighted the impressive quality of skins from the game’s earlier seasons. While the bigger conversation was friendly at first, by the end it was clear that many Apex fans weren’t impressed with the Season 10 and 11 offerings. In the comments, the original poster highlighted the Biotic Luminary Horizon skin from Season 11 as an example of a skin that’s not as impressive as the usual standard: “Gotta save all those good skins for collection events where 1 Legendary skin costs twice as much as the BP.” Another commenter added that a lack of exciting new content has nearly driven them away from the game entirely: “Used to play it every day for a year. Haven’t touched the game in 6 months now. Every drop of lore and new content feels half-hearted.” While the devs have had bigger problems on their hands the last few seasons – like making sure the game’s servers are healthy enough to survive the launch of a new season and cleaning up the mountain of cheaters in Ranked – it’s clear that the community is hoping for a special effort in Season 12.

  • Apex Legends players want to rework the Gold Body Shield – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want to rework the Gold Body Shield Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has a diverse set of weapons and armor to give players an edge during intense firefights, but some players think the Gold Body Shield is sorely in need of an upgrade. Difference in Armor Respawn Entertainment launched their battle royale on February 4 with an array of unique characters along with a deep armory. Though the armor in the game come in tiers of Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary, some players think there’s not much disparity between the last two. Both Epic and Legendary Body Shields give a player 4 bars of armor which equal to 100 hp. The difference between the two lie in the Legendary’s Executioner passive that fully regenerates the player’s shield when using a Finisher. Nothing much Legendary about the Body Shield Even though it seems like a free shield with every flashy elimination, the practicality of the perk fizzles out especially when entering the late game. Some fans have even likened the armor to a less effective Shield Battery since a player “can’t move, can’t cancel if you spot someone, allows enemy to call out that you’re vulnerable” when using a finisher, according to Redditor ‘acrunchycaptain.’ The Apex community has been putting out suggestions to revamp the Legendary armor to finally make it a worthwhile item to look out for. How to improve the Gold Body Shield? Reddit user ‘Rayledare’ put together a unique concept to change out the current Gold Body Shield effect with another that works like Octane’s Swift Mend. But instead of healing HP over time, the new passive would regain Shield while having it equipped. Adding to the idea, Redditor ‘PronShieldActivate’ suggested to name the armor effect “Saviour” while giving a “recharge on successful revives.” The change would definitely give ample reasons for players to pick up the armor since it saves them tons of time by not needing to pull out a Battery for a refill. Whether Respawn Entertainment go for a concept like this or choose to give the whole item a rework, it’s clear that players would appreciate a change to the Legendary equipment.

  • Apex Legends players are reverse-boosting in Ranked Arenas & it’s ruining matchmaking – Dexerto

Apex Legends players are reverse-boosting in Ranked Arenas & it’s ruining matchmaking Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have been trying to skew the numbers in their favor for Ranked Arenas, and it’s been ruining matchmaking in more ways than one. Predator lobbies, where the very best in Apex are meant to play, have been seeing a rise in ‘reverse-boosting,’ where players intentionally lose multiple games to lower their MMR — giving them a much bigger payout when they eventually try and win. In the ‘give-and-take’ structure of matchmaking ratings, the goal of reverse-boosting is to trick the system to give you more Apex Points for an Arena victory after convincing it that your previous performance was terrible by comparison. Since your MMR was lowered in the losing streak, the game will be more charitable, shortly after, per win since it’s registering that you’re playing well above your MMR. The effects of this are more pronounced in Predator lobbies where people are fighting for placement rather than rank. Reddit user ‘dbattlefront’ saw this happen in their game where they were getting an easy win, since the other team had resigned themselves to exploit the system. “The sad state of Apex Arena Ranked,” dbattlefront said. “They are purposely killing themselves in order to lower their MMR which will give you a net positive of points once you win. Great competitive integrity.” The user went in-depth about why the practice is so damaging to matchmaking, noting just how much cheaters have to gain from throwing their Arenas games. “What they are doing is purposely losing in order to trick the system into giving them more points,” they explained. “Typically if you win in Pred you should gain anywhere from +12 to +50-ish, but they will now gain 100-150 points for winning because they lost on purpose beforehand.” More players believe they saw this happening in lower ranks too, where it’s equally as damaging but cheaters won’t get rewarded as much. Other than the report function, it’s unclear how Respawn would be able to stop this. But players think something should be done to keep the competitive integrity in Apex Legends’ ranked modes intact.

  • Apex Legends players reveal which Legend they want “deleted” from roster – Dexerto

Apex Legends players reveal which Legend they want “deleted” from roster Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have come together to reveal which character they think should be “deleted” from the roster. While gunplay is definitely the most important aspect of Apex Legends, the roster of unique and interesting characters is a close second. Each equipped with a set of powerful abilities designed to turn the tides in a skirmish, every single Legend brings something different to their squad. Despite this, some of them are more popular than others, and not all of them have the best reputation in the community. So, when a discussion began on Reddit about which Legend should be removed from the roster, a few characters quickly became firm favorites to leave the Outlands. Which Legend should be deleted from Apex Legends? On October 10, Reddit user karrreyy created a thread that posed a simple question, if you could delete a Legend from Apex, who would it be? Well, it didn’t take long for the post to get a lot of traction and a few names from the roster immediately began to get mentioned more than others. The top suggestion was targeted at Wraith, as the user just wanted to see “what chaos it’ll bring to the community” when the most iconic character in Apex is removed from the game. Another nominee was Seer, whose “wallhacks” were the main argument for him leaving the roster. It’s likely TSM pro ImperialHal would agree with this selection, as he’s called out the Ambush Master recently for making third parties a serious problem in Season 14. Finally, Vantage received quite a few votes from users who think booting her from the Outlands would force people to “actually learn how to snipe again”. As expected, nearly all the replies in the thread are jokes and no one actually wants any of the Legends removed from Apex. The only serious contender was Seer, and that’s because the Ambush Master has become a powerful meta pick in Hunted, especially for pouncing on weakened squads. Either way, it’s safe to say Respawn will never remove a Legend from the Outlands, but it’s always fun to see who the community would get rid of if they had the choice.

  • Apex Legends players reveal which characters need nerfs and buffs – Dexerto

Apex Legends players reveal which characters need nerfs and buffs We’re well into Apex Legends Season 3 so it’s easy to see what characters are too strong, too weak, or just right by now. Crypto was the addition of Season 3, but we can’t forget about the rest of the characters that can be found in Apex Legends who all still remain very popular. There’s a decent selection of characters now and Respawn will have to make sure they remain balanced as that cast continues to grow. A survey that asked players what characters players though needed a buff or nerf was published to the Apex Legends subreddit by user ‘DYSPROssium’, and the results are a bit surprising. The number of surveyed players comes in at just 263, so it’s by no means indicative of the player base as a whole. With that said, some of the characters voted to be overpowered are somewhat shocking, and might come as a surprise to some. Pathfinder, Gibraltar, and Wraith received the most votes as being considered overpowered, and in need of a nerf. Gibraltar was easily considered to be one of the worst characters in the entire game at one point, so it’s interesting to see the supposed renaissance he is enjoying in Season 3. Wraith has always been considered to be one of the best, so it’s no surprise to see her garner several votes for a nerf. On the other end of the spectrum, several characters are in need of a buff according to the survey. Mirage, Crypto, Bloodhound, Octane, and Wattson all received many votes for being underpowered, which shouldn’t be too much of a surprise. Crypto, the game’s newest character, isn’t necessarily bad, but players have been calling for a buff in some way for him. Mirage has always been considered one of the weakest in the game as his Ultimate ability leaves a lot to be desired. Respawn has been known to tweak characters here and there, so don’t expect the bad ones to remain that weak forever. The developers frequently listen to player feedback so it’s possible some changes are already in the works – you never know. Major updates drop at the start of every season, but the devs have pushed out smaller ones as well, and that’s all a lot of these Legends would need.

  • Apex Legends players reveal which characters desperately need changing – Dexerto

Apex Legends players reveal which characters desperately need changing As Apex Legends’ Season 3 meta continues to settle, players are figuring out just which legends are the best on World’s Edge, and the consensus is some have been over-tuned, while others have been left behind. Everyone wants to play the best characters in their games as they march towards being crowned Champion of the Arena, whether it be because their favorite legends are extra-powerful, or they’re changing to the meta choices. Now, the results of a survey published to the Apex Legends subreddit by user ‘DYSPROssium’ has revealed which of the eleven characters the community believes need to be hit with nerfs, and which could use a bit more love. Of the cast of colorful characters, there are three legends that need major buffs to make their mark on the 60-player battle royale, the community has revealed. Chief among them is Mirage, the loveable trickster whos playstyle is based around fooling enemies with clones, and never stops talking in-game. According to the survey results, 91% of players want to see the Holographic Trickster improved, while not a single person involved in the survey suggested he needed any nerfs. Behind Mirage come Bloodhound (82%) and Crypto (68%), both of whom are designed to help gather information for the team. Players identified Bloodhound’s Eye of the Allfather needed tweaking numbers-wise, while they added Crypto’s Surveillance Drone simply isn’t valuable enough to pick the newly-added legend. If they could have just one buff, however, it would be for Mirage’s skills — Encore, which turns you invisible for five seconds while downed, and his ultimate Vanishing Act, which fires out a half-dozen fake clones in a circle. Read more: When does Apex Legends Season 4 start? – According to the survey, 68% suggested Mirage’s passive invisibility didn’t really do anything, considering once you were down, hiding for five seconds wasn’t going to change much, while 66% said his ultimate wasn’t game-changing enough compared to other legends. While Mirage, Bloodhound, and Crypto aren’t ‘game-changing’ enough in the eyes of many players, there are a few members of Respawn’s battle royale cast that completely fit that bill, through high-mobility or super-powerful abilities. First off the list is Pathfinder, with 56% of respondents believing the plucky robot scout dubbed “too strong” because of his Grappling Hook ability, which allows him to zip around close combats, and cover World’s Edge with ease. Players also voted that his ability was too powerful (77% of respondents), his small hitbox provides too much advantage (39%), and that on top of that, his support abilities like his Zipline Gun ult adds too many benefits for his teammates (30%). Wraith, who also boasts a small hitbox and hyper-mobile abilities, was second in the list of ‘needs nerfs,’ with 35% of respondents believing she could be tuned better to make her a more balanced choice in ranked and competitive play. The Interdimensional Skirmisher and her speedy Pathfinder teammate were joined in the top three by Gibraltar, who was fired to the top of the meta in Season 2 when he had his large hitbox supplemented by the ‘Fortified’ passive. From those players who dubbed Gibby too powerful in his current state, 78% suggested his over-tuned nature came from his protective Gun Shield passive, which deploys an energy shield above his weapon to protect his chest and head. It’s interesting to see the Kiwi brawler has been launched to the top of the tier lists, considering when he was first released he was considered one of the worst characters in the game: a true testament to the value of buffs, and nerfs. Not every character in the game is too far down either end of the spectrum though, according to the survey — Apex Legends players apparently enjoy Lifeline (85% voted ‘balanced’) and Bangalore (83%) as they are. Caustic, Octane, and Wattson were all added to the ‘balanced’ pile, though 46% of respondents suggested Octane could use a minor tweak. Overall, however, the middle pack of legends were ruled either ‘balanced’ or ‘minor tweaks.’ Could use nerfs Pathfinder: 56% balanced, 3% needs buffs, 41% needs nerfs – Wraith: 60% balanced, 5% needs buffs, 35% needs nerfs – Gibraltar: 68% balanced, 9% needs buffs, 23% needs nerfs – Balanced Lifeline: 85% balanced, 11% needs buffs, 4% needs nerfs – Bangalore: 83% balanced, 16% needs buffs, 1% needs nerfs – Caustic: 67% balanced, 25% needs buffs, 8% needs nerfs – Wattson: 54% balanced, 43% needs buffs, 3% needs nerfs – Octane: 53% balanced, 46% needs buffs, 1% needs nerfs – Could use buffs Mirage: 9% balanced, 91% needs buffs, 0% needs nerfs – Bloodhound: 18% balanced, 82% needs buffs, 0% needs nerfs – Crypto: 30% balanced, 68% needs buffs, 2% needs nerfs – It’s also worth remembering there were just 1,936 respondents to the survey, while EA has estimated 8-10 million log in to the battle royale every week, meaning this is a very small percentage of the player base. Overall, however, it’s a good indication of what maybe a little too strong, or a little poor, in the current Season 3 meta, and if Respawn ducks their head in and checks out the stats, they may be inspired to buff or nerf some of their legends. For now, it also presents players with an option: grab someone like Pathfinder or Wraith, and know you’re taking the best into World’s Edge, or pick up a weaker legend like Mirage and Crypto, and make it taste all the sweeter when you win.

  • Apex Legends players reveal review scores for Season 13: “Lifeline carried” – Dexerto

Apex Legends players reveal review scores for Season 13: “Lifeline carried” Respawn EntertainmentNow that Apex Legends Season 13 is wrapping up, fans gave their personal review scores on a somewhat divisive season filled with character buffs and Ranked changes. As Apex Legends’ Season 14 content is coming out on August 9, fans seem ready to say goodbye to Season 13. With less than a week until Season 14’s start date, we asked fans – using the alphaINTEL Twitter page – to give their personal review scores on Season 13, which resulted in some pretty divisive takes all around. Though some praised gameplay and Legend changes like Lifeline’s late-season buff, others felt the shaking up the Ranked system soured the season overall. Apex Legends players review Season 13 A popular consensus among fans was that Season 13 scored a solid 7/10 points, making it a good season — but not a great one. One fairly common sentiment among players was the positive reception to Lifeline’s buffs that arrived during the Awakening Collection event that arrived late in the season. “7/10. Lifeline content carried the whole season,” said Apex Legend Content Creator KralRindo. 7/10 — KralRindo (@kralrindo) August 5, 2022 Lifeline content carried the whole season take my money Respawn, give us more Lifeline skins 7/10. New ranked changes are fairly good, loved that Armed & Dangerous is back, loved the lifeline lore and tt, but season felt kinda boring, Newcastle isnt that bad but tact could use buffs, and not much legend changes this season. — ︎ʜʙᴋ (@RandomNamedHBK) August 5, 2022 S14 looks promising tho 3/10 worst season yet! 301/wingman in crafters, no Kings Canyon, still no heirloom for Loba, Ranked was so hard that nobody played it so every pub game was against 3 stack pred/master because they didn’t want to play it either. — RJ (@UFC_Apex) August 5, 2022 Other players like RandomNamedHBK also gave the season a seven out of 10, but this time praised Lifeline’s extended lore shown through her Stories from the Outlands trailer which fans received very positively. However, some were a bit harsher on the season like UFC_Apex who gave it a three out of 10, who claimed the Ranked changes made playing pubs much more difficult among other things. Though opinions on Season 13 are certainly mixed one thing is certain: fans are eager to see how Respawn shakes things up in Season 14 on August 9, 2022.

  • Apex Legends players resort to “easy” counter for strong Seer scans – Dexerto

Apex Legends players resort to “easy” counter for strong Seer scans Respawn EntertainmentSeer has made an impact in the Apex Legends meta after the Season 10 Emergence update, as people continue to explore any kind of counter to his ability kit. That’s when people noticed that the same problems, and by extension solutions, they had with Bloodhound’s scan could be applied with Seer’s brand of scouting. While there’s more nuances to it, the Apex community are going back to basics to try and stymie the Ambush Artist. Seer’s ability kit is completely geared to revealing enemy teams. Since it’s his strong suit, it’s no surprise people are still adjusting to him or having trouble escaping his scope. While it’s not the most clever method, overcoming a squad with a good Seer could come down to simply kiting away from his radius and looking for an opening. Reddit user ‘the_pepp92’ says “it’s not that hard” to play against some of the best reconnaissance Legends in the game like Seer and Bloodhound. You just need to have enough patience to outlast their scans. “Easy: don’t fight while scanned. Seriously, it’s not that hard. If you peek while scanned they pre-fire that angle and you get melted,” they said. They described how teammates often trying to fight up on an enemy’s position shortly after getting scanned, and were perplexed to see people enthusiastically run into their dooms. But that still leaves the problem with Seer’s passive ability which lets him have a heartbeat sensor whenever he aims down the sights. You can’t do anything about that, but you can give yourself a chance by dodging his more potent tracking tools. With most releases, even Horizon who was considered very strong when she launched, have a rhyme and reason to their kits. Read more: NICKMERCS claims Fortnite skill cap is “f**king insane” compared to Warzone & Apex Legends – There are some aspects of Seer that most people are convinced are too OP in their current state, and that would be a job for Respawn to look into nerfs. But until then, there are habits every player can take up that could give them a much better playing experience against Apex Legends’ latest character.

  • Apex Legends players reporting false bans on Steam Deck – Dexerto

Apex Legends players reporting false bans on Steam Deck EAA series of threads and posts from Apex Legends players on Steam Deck has several users reporting that they’re being falsely banned without a way to get their accounts back. The Steam Deck has allowed PC gamers to take their favorite titles on the go. The library of deck-verified titles is ever-growing and contains everything from indie games to the biggest titles out there. Apex Legends is one such verified game, and some players have opted to queue up for their favorite battle royale while they’re away from their PC. And, considering the game is free-to-play, it’s an easily accessible game even for players picking up a deck without an existing library of games. However, several players have reported that they’re being permanently banned from Apex Legends when playing from their Steam Deck, with Valve-developed software called Proton being the main suspect. Steam Deck Apex Legends players reporting false bans Apex Legends has been a verified game on the Steam Deck for almost a year now. While it’s possible to try and run any game regardless of its verification status, games that are verified have to function on the platform to acquire and maintain verification. Users haven’t complained about how the game itself runs on their deck. Rather, the problem stems from users getting banned for playing the game. What’s more, many of the users reporting these bans and claiming that they’re false have been banned right after the most recent Apex Legends patch. An Apex Legends player that reported a false ban on their account compiled a series of forum posts and findings that have revealed this to be a widespread issue. Proton is the main suspect after investigation from users getting banned on the Steam Deck. It’s a compatibility tool that’s a vital part of making games work on the device, meaning that everyone trying to play Apex on their deck could be affected by this issue. The original poster behind the length thread about the issue on reddit showed their attempts to reach out to EA’s support staff with, according to them, no response from the team. Respawn have yet to respond to the issue at the time of writing. Apex Legends fans may want to hold off from playing on their Steam Deck until more comes to light about the nature of these bans.

  • Apex Legends server issues continue following January 10 update – Dexerto

Apex Legends server issues continue following January 10 update Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are reporting outages and server problems following the game’s January 10 update. The days of Apex Legends having serious server issues after updates appeared to be long gone after the developers committed to executing clean season launches back in Season 11, but old problems have crept back in after the Spellbound Collection Event update went live. According to third-party tracking site ApexLegendsStatus, servers are experiencing serious problems and the developers have confirmed that they’ve seen the reports that some users are experiencing interruptions and connectivity issues. Apex Legends servers still struggling after January 10 update In reference to the ongoing problems, Respawn Entertainment noted that they are actively investigating the problem and will update fans again when a solution has been found. “We’re aware some players are having issues connecting to the [Apex Legends] servers right now when in/returning to the lobby,” they said. “We’re working on a fix and will reply to this tweet with updates as we have them. Thanks for your patience while we sort this out.” The region that’s worst off at the time of writing is EU East but several other areas have reached been given the “slow” designation at different times. While some players are complaining about not being able to connect to the servers at all, the primary issue has to deal with returning to the lobby after each game is complete or a Legend’s squad has been wiped. Multiple people have confirmed that exiting a lobby requires a full closure of the game and “gambling” on being able to reconnect. One player from the Apex Legends subreddit noted exactly what’s happening on their end: “It says connecting to the servers any time I try to leave (once I die/squad dies) then I have to wait around 20 seconds just to see this.” Another commenter explained that they were able to load into a game after a 15-minute queue before being disconnected just as the first ring closed and that they experienced some trouble getting back in as well. It’s been over a day since Respawn acknowledged the server issues, and most servers currently are having no issues. However, there have still been ongoing interruptions with no further updates from the Apex Legends developer. The problem is still ongoing at this time, but we’ll update this page once a fix has been pushed live.

  • Apex Legends players rejoice at downfall of “cheating” config users – Dexerto

Apex Legends players rejoice at downfall of “cheating” config users Respawn EntertainmentRespawn released a surprise patch and stopped players from using Steam configurations to enhance their gameplay, and Apex players are very happy with it. Apex Legends steam “configs” had become popular among players looking to gain an advantage over their opponents, and allowed controller players to tap strafe with ease and eliminate all gun recoil. Players who were unwilling to alter their Steam settings, or play on console, were growing tired of the trend as they felt it was causing the game to become unfair. However, in a surprise patch, developers Respawn released a patch that stopped the steam configurations from working. Here is how players who refused to use the configurations reacted to the “cheaters” getting stopped. Apex Legends casuals and pros rejoice Pro players and casuals alike reacted with joy and hoped that now they wouldn’t have to face cheaters anymore when they hopped on to play their favorite battle royale. “Huge W respawn!” one person said. “Bad players acting like they’re good in shambles,” another agreed. Pro players also agreed that Respawn had taken a step in the right direction with the change, and responded with near unanimous support to the changes. “This is just the start of a new beginning for Apex let’s go,” said popular player TSM ImperialHal. “Love this competitive focused direction that Apex seems to be heading in going into season 20,” agreed player Naughty. Still, there were some people who were upset with the changes and felt that Respawn had unfairly targeted controller players: “Remove it for all inputs then, including MnK” one unhappy fan complained. Despite this, only time will tell if the changes made by Respawn have made a positive change to players’ experiences. • Apex Legends players reignite controller vs KBM debate over aim assist mechanic – Dexerto

Apex Legends players reignite controller vs KBM debate over aim assist mechanic Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have been left pondering the game’s aim assist mechanic after a discovery by one player appears to show that certain optical attachments do not give players aim assist – even on console. The controller versus mouse and keyboard debate is nothing new in Apex Legends, or gaming for that matter. Long have PC players complained that controller aim assist is overpowered, and long have controller players complained that the precision and mobility mice bring is unfair. As more and more titles – including Apex Legends – incorporate crossplay, the debate is becoming more prominent rather than reaching a natural, amicable conclusion. It has also been reignited as Apex fans realized that certain optical attachments do not give users aim assist, even when playing on controller. Redditor ‘thatkotaguy‘ shared a Firing Range clip on December 31, showing that when scopes from 6x and higher are equipped, weapons do not receive any aim assist. When tracking their crosshair over the enemy with a less-magnified scope, the player’s aim is slowed slightly. When this is done with the most magnified scopes, they do not receive any help from the game. It took some players by surprise, especially those who play with controller and are accustomed to having the mechanic help their accuracy in gunfights. However, some explained it in the comments, stating that it may actually help controller players when lining up long-range shots and going for the head: “Makes sense, with long range you usually have to lead shots so aim assist locking onto the target would be detrimental.” Others, though, suggested they struggle with snipers as a result and that aim assist should apply to sniper optics too. One said: “Explains why I can’t hit sh*t with a Kraber.” Naturally, there were some KBM players who were pleased to see that snipers do not offer players the same help when aiming. Whilst a general consensus is never going to be reached, it may push more controller players to operate their snipers with iron sights, where they’ll still get a helping hand from aim assist.

  • Apex Legends players really want Respawn to bring back one random World’s Edge rock – Dexerto

Apex Legends players really want Respawn to bring back one random World’s Edge rock Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are up in arms after Respawn finally removed a random glitched rock that has been floating on World’s Edge since the map’s last big update, with some now begging the devs to bring it back next patch. In Season 11’s update, the Apex Legends devs made what seemed a relatively harmless change to one of their battle royale maps: they “removed the random rock floating in midair in World’s Edge.” The change, buried among the patch’s numerous bug and glitch fixes, has gone down like a lead balloon. One disappointed player, Swogglenoz, even made a hilarious memorial video for the floating World’s Edge debris to the tune of Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up.” “Rip the random rock floating in World’s Edge,” they said. Players, mainly Pathfinder mains, have called for Respawn to re-add the infamous rock, jokingly calling the season “unplayable” unless it’s returned soon. Tongue-in-cheek response or not, however, Apex Legends players have made it clear that they want Respawn to add the floating rock back in the next update. The rock itself was located at Fragment West, just outside the ruined Capitol City, and let crafty Pathfinder mains grapple onto the rock, connect their Zipline to the small debris piece, and use it in the heat of battle to reposition. Valkyrie mains could also land on the rock with her jetpack abilities. “I haven’t been this sad since they removed Nessie hats,” one Apex player joked after discovering the rock removal. Another chimed in: “I am now sad over a floating rock that I never knew existed, and my day is now ruined.” There’s hope the popular rock will be addressed in the next update. One hopeful fan wrote, “Season 12 patch notes: For f**ks sake, we put your floating rock back.” Funnily enough, there are even some reports that the infamous World’s Edge rock is actually still floating there, and that Respawn only made it invisible. Dexerto loaded into a lobby, headed out to Fragment, and tested it out, but either our Pathfinder skills are lacking — a real possibility — or the invisible rock is no longer accessible despite still blocking projectiles and bullets. Despite that, some players claim “there’s still something there.” Respawn has yet to comment on the rock’s removal outside the Escape patch notes, and likely won’t return the funny little Apex Legends rock in future updates.

  • Apex Legends players really want a new ultimate for Lifeline – Dexerto

Apex Legends players really want a new ultimate for Lifeline Respawn EntertainmentLifeline is one of the original characters in Apex Legends, but some players think her ultimate ability is just about due for an upgrade. Apex’s go-to healer, Lifeline, is one of the OGs in Apex’s lineup. She’s been munching on Ultimate Accelerants and calling Care Packages since day one, but some players think the ability isn’t as useful as it once was. The Support legend’s ultimate, named ‘Care Package,’ calls down a supply pod that contains one each of healing items, weapon sights, and shields. Following updates to how armor works in Apex, though, some players think it’s time for some kind of change. A post on the Apex subreddit by user Aqua_official2 simply floated the idea that Lifeline’s ult could be due for an upgrade, and soon was at the top of the page, with over 10,000 upvotes and hundreds of comments chiming in. Several players pointed out that one of the most valuable items on offer from the package, and one of the biggest reasons to use the ability late game, were the Purple Shields – but the introduction of Evo Shields has changed all of that. Every player now drops in with Evo Shields equipped following an update in August of 2020. They upgrade based on how much damage you deal to opponents throughout the match, so by the final few circles, most remaining players will already have maximum, Level 5 protection already. Multiple players argued that this makes the Care Package little more than some deployable cover that takes 15 seconds to land — basically a bargain-bin version of Gibby’s tactical Dome Shield. Care Packages are indestructible though, so once they’re down on the ground, they do make decent cover… but the consensus over on Reddit seems to be it’s time for a change. Exactly what kind of change people want to see is a little more up in the air, with suggestions ranging from adding a chance at Supply Drop weapons to it in the late game to scrapping the ability entirely and starting over with something new. Respawn, to their credit, has already said they’re working on changes to Lifeline’s ultimate, but until they come out with more information, we’ll just have to wait and see what changes are coming.

  • Apex Legends: Players react to crazy Rampart bug costing teams wins – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Players react to crazy Rampart bug costing teams wins Respawn EntertainmentA video surfaced on Twitter showing a Rampart bug that teleported a player through a building floor, getting them killed by another team in a Japanese tournament. As of August 27, Rampart is not a popular option in casual Apex Legends play or in competitive tournaments. Players think that while the character has unique abilities, like a deployable turret and damage-buffing walls, her kit is too stationary to be useful. However, one Japanese team still used her in a competitive setting in a tournament. Instead of being rewarded for their team composition, a game-breaking bug happened that teleported one of them through a floor. Apex Legends Rampart turret ruins tournament chances. The Apex Legends player who got bugged by the glitch posted a video on Twitter revealing their perspective as they teleport through the floor. The translated caption to the Tweet reads: “I was having fun shooting Sheila when a bug suddenly warped me down.” The video shows a Caustic shooting at a team far away from atop a Rampart turret. The Caustic dismounted from the turret and then teleported on their own through the floor into a camping enemy team, immediately getting gunned down. The Apex Legend community was shocked by the “incredible bug.” Some players saw this as a sign that Rampart would never become a meta pick again in Apex Legends with bugs like this “Rampart has almost entirely left the meta, cause imagine this sh*t happening in ALGs lmao.” However, other users in the Apex Legends community saw the funny side of the glitch, joking that “clearly this is a preview of the new Mole legend coming to Apex.” Furthermore, an analysis by a Reddit user theorized that the glitch was caused by exiting “Sheila at an angle that landed her inside a rampart wall forcing her downwards to the closest open space.” The 2023 ALGS championship has nearly arrived for pro teams to compete in. Fans are hoping that no glitches similar to this befall their favorite team as they duke it out to become ALGS champions.

  • Apex Legends players question removal of gendered voice lines ‘for no reason’ – Dexerto

Apex Legends players question removal of gendered voice lines ‘for no reason’ RespawnA number of Apex Legends players have questioned the alteration of voice lines that feature gendered language such as “ladies”, “brothers”, and more, claiming it has been done by Respawn “without any reason”. Any Apex Legends player will agree that the game’s diverse and personable Legend pool is one of the reasons Respawn’s battle royale works so well. Each character brings their own personality, charm and charisma to the Apex Games, often poking fun at other Legends and defending their own skills vehemently. However, in the ongoing Season 15, plenty of players have clocked changes to voice lines in-game which, in general, have removed any gendered terms from Legend vocabularies. Apex Legends voice lines changed to remove gendered terms Specifically, Bangalore’s jumpmaster voice line has been changed from “sounding reveille, ladies. I’m the jumpmaster” to “Sounding reveille. I’m the jumpmaster”. Another example includes the now missing line “Oscar Mike, ladies.” On a similar note, Octane’s voice lines no longer include the word “brother”, while Rampart says “donuts” instead of “guys”. Plenty of players picked up on the changes, with one saying: “I don’t know why this was changed or if new lines were just added on top, but it feels really weird having all these characters from different backgrounds speak in the same non-gendered kind of language? Really strange change to prioritize if that’s what’s going on.” Another commented that it hurts the personality of the affected characters, arguing: “This is rather sad to remove voice lines that actually gave personality to legends and censor them without any reason.” Others described the change as “easy” and “unobtrusive”, stating that it won’t affect the game’s quality and any change designed to make it more inclusive should be welcomed. Many also pointed out that it follows the implementation of Catalyst, the game’s first openly transgender Legend. She was, in the words of voice actor Meli Grant, designed to be “inescapably trans.” It’s possible that Respawn have made the changes to promote inclusivity and avoid alienating players based on gendered language. They have previously collaborated with and consulted GLAAD, a NGO that specialises in LBGT+ inclusion and protection in popular culture. At the time of writing, Respawn have not commented publicly on the changes.

  • Apex Legends players propose genius respawn buffs to prevent match leaving – Dexerto

Apex Legends players propose genius respawn buffs to prevent match leaving Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legend player proposed several different ways to buff the respawn mechanic to help prevent others from leaving games early. In Apex Legends, when a player is knocked down and finished off, they aren’t permanently out of the game. Teammates can still pick up fallen player banners and revive them using a Respawn Beacon. However, there are plenty of players who simply leave the match after getting killed, much to the frustration of their teammates. To try and mitigate this, one fan suggested a handful of smart buffs to the respawn mechanic to give revived players a fighting chance and maybe even prevent future match quitting. Apex Legends player proposes smart respawn buffs The player proposed the buff on the Apex Legends subreddit and explained, “Improving the inventory of the Respawned Player can help strengthen the Respawn Mechanic, make it more effective, and offer a more Dynamic Gameplay experience.” The post included an infographic to break down the buff idea and explained why they thought it could make the game better as a whole. As for the buff itself, they suggested that players who respawned in Round 1 would drop back into the game with a P2020 and a 60 ammo stack, 1 Frag Grenade, 2 Shield Cells, 2 Syringe, 1 Shield Battery, and 1 MedKit. If a player were brought back in Round 2 they would return with an RE-45 and an 80 ammo stack, 1 Arc Star, 2 Shield Cells, 2 Syringe, 1 Shield Battery, 1 MedKit, and 1 Heat Shield. According to them, “Respawning teammates should not only be a means of bringing them back into the match but also an opportunity for them to make a meaningful impact by giving them a chance to survive and the ability to fight back quickly.” Overall, fans seemed receptive to the idea, though many noted that respawning with larger healing items was a bit overkill. “If you remove the big meds and nades from the inventory. I don’t see a problem with this idea,” noted one player. Whether or not the developer Respawn would actually implement this change is a different story, though the team has made changes to the kit players start matches with in the past.

  • Apex Legends players have a big problem with the game’s ‘No Fill’ option – Dexerto

Apex Legends players have a big problem with the game’s ‘No Fill’ option The Apex Legends community slammed people who have the ‘Fill Teammates’ option selected when they have little intention of working with their squad, and it’s splitting the player base. The ‘Fill Teammates’ toggle in Apex Legends lets players launch into a game without teammates or let the matchmaking system create their team. But in normal games, meaning those not in Ranked mode, people fly in with different purposes in mind. Some people use pubs (public games) as a means to train, practice and perfect their gameplay, this could be as general as shooting mechanics or as specific as sniping. Others use pubs as a means to not be a sweat and simply have fun in Apex. There’s room in the game mode for both kinds of players, but there’s a big discrepancy from people who elect not to use it. “When the devs add a ‘no fill’ mode specifically for the people who throw games to practice, and they still can’t be bothered to use it cause ‘it’s pubs lol!’” a Reddit post from ‘majds1’ read. Threads like these took aim at players who hotdrop in Apex with ‘Fill Teammates’ option, probably die, then just quit out the game, leaving the other players on the squad at a disadvantage. A streamer that’s been a focus of the discourse who goes by ‘Inhuman’ responded to multiple threads on them after the conversation started to grow. “If being a bad teammate is playing how you want to play, then yes I actively support it,” Inhuman said. “If you want to hotdrop 100 games in a row and die working on mechanics, no one is stopping you. It’s pubs.” Since the game’s shock drop in Feb 2019, there’s been a difference in game etiquette between the casual players looking to have fun and streamers/pros who want to optimize their gameplay. The same can be said for most games as a service titles like Valorant, Warzone, League of Legends, Fortnite and more, since regular updates means constant push-and-pull between what players want. But one thing’s clear, Apex Legends players have a big problem with the ‘No Fill’ option that is seldom used from those they think could benefit from it.

  • Apex Legends players praise Season 20’s major crafting and Replicator changes – Dexerto

Apex Legends players praise Season 20’s major crafting and Replicator changes Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have taken to social media to praise the massive changes Season 20 introduced to crafting and Replicators. Apex Legends Season 20 officially launched on February 13, 2024. The new season includes plenty of big changes such as the new Legend Upgrade System. However, that wasn’t the only big change introduced in Season 20. In the official patch notes, developer Respawn Entertainment detailed that the Battle Royale’s crafting system would see some big tweaks as well. While players have only had access to the new Season for a handful of days, many have already praised the new streamlined crafting system. Apex Legends players praise Season 20 crafting changes A post on the Apex Legends subreddit sparked a discussion among the community after one fan made a thread titled, “By far my favorite update of this season is the replicator change.” The OP explained, “For as long as I can remember, weapons being locked in the replicator has been annoying to me (attachments too). It feels like a huge upgrade to me that all weapons and attachments are found on the ground.” They also go on to praise the quicker crafting speed, which makes using Replicators feel much safer. The player wasn’t alone in their praise for the new crafting system, with many other fans taking to the comments to share their own compliments. “It actually gives you enough ammo to justify using it for ammo,” said one player. “Probably my favorite part about it.” Another fan noted how these changes de-emphasized how important stopping at a Replicator during a match felt. “I like it because now the replicator isn’t such an important task that you and your team must do because other teams are doing it. It would take a whole minute out of the game or more if you and your team wanted to craft.” While Season 20 is still in its infancy, it seems it has already made a fairly positive impression on Apex Legends fans.

  • Apex Legends players praise Season 20 as “best yet” thanks to major overhauls – Dexerto

Apex Legends players praise Season 20 as “best yet” thanks to major overhauls Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are praising Season 20 as the “best yet” following huge overhauls to various mechanics. Apex Legends has long been one of the most popular battle royales, and following the release of the Season 20 update, players believe the game could be in the best state it’s ever seen. Season 20’s release on February 13 didn’t bring any massive additions to the game, such as a new map or Legend, but it was still a huge breath of fresh air. Notably, the update brought the highly-anticipated next-generation console upgrade, allowing Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 players to finally experience 120hz gameplay. Not only that, the update saw an overhaul to the Ranked system, as well as the addition of Legend Upgrades and tons of Legends balancing. Apex Legends players claim Season 20 is “best yet” In a Reddit post on February 19, Apex players are praising the Respawn devs, claiming Season 20 is the “best yet.” “Anyone else think this is one of the best seasons in Apex yet?” one player wrote. However, they acknowledged they still haven’t tested the waters yet with Ranked in Season 20, explaining Straight Shot LTM is their “favorite mode” they’ve seen in the game. “The requeue feature is amazing, and the fast-paced looting and fights just make it so much more fun for someone with the attention span of a goldfish like me,” they said. The player added: “The Evo shield changes are a blessing. Shield swaps are always worth it. Same with replicators – simple and there are no downsides to using them. The map rotations are good too.” Despite its fair few challenges, such as lag “ruining” the game according to some, many in the replies felt the same, agreeing that Season 20 is the “best in a long time.” “Absolutely loving the changes they’ve implemented, to be honest. Was super excited for this season, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Honestly a breath of fresh air, good job Respawn,” a player wrote. “Removal of hidden MMR in ranked alone makes it one of the best seasons yet,” one claimed. “Everything else is just a bonus.” Since its release, Apex players have fallen in love with the new Straight Shot LTM, with many pleading for it to stay permanent or at least for the rest of the Season. However, we’ll just have to wait and see if the devs implement that feedback.

  • Apex Legends players praise devs for transparent look into audio issue investigation – Dexerto

Apex Legends players praise devs for transparent look into audio issue investigation Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends community expressed their appreciation for developer Respawn Entertainment’s transparent look into the recent audio issue investigation. Apex Legends fans have been vocal about their frustration surrounding the audio issues present throughout Season 16, with many pro players claiming they were worse than ever. Thankfully, Respawn took the time to communicate with the playerbase and launched an update meant to fix “major audio and VFX drops” ahead of the launch of Season 17. Now, the developer has posted a full deep-dive into the audio investigation, and players have praised the developer’s candor and communication in regard to the whole process. Apex Legends fans praise Respawn’s transparent audio post A post on the Apex Legends subreddit from Respawn’s Community rep, RSPN_Thieamy, went into detail about the investigation surrounding Season 16’s audio issues. The post was split into four sections: Discovery & Investigation, Narrowing Focus, Cause and Effect, and Fix Deployed. Each category went in-depth into a phase of the process the developer took to address audio issues and how the recent fix came to be. In short, Respawn eventually found that the massive bug was all caused by “a single line of code” attributed to the Nemesis, which was the new Energy weapon introduced in Season 16. The devs addressed this line of code and sent out the fix on April 26, 2023. Of course, this fix is not the be-all-end-all of the investigation, as the final section notes that “This may not address all FX concerns, but everything with this particular beast of a bug is looking good again!” Players interested in the nitty-gritty details surrounding this update should definitely give the post a read, as it’s quite informative. The Apex Legends community seemed to think so, too, with the post being met with tons of praise from fans. “Dam*, we wanted communication, and we got it. Thanks for the update, we appreciate it,” said one player. Others were impressed the team was actually able to pinpoint the single line of code that was causing the problems. “Thanks for the write-up and props for figuring it out. I’m sure the developers were excited to squash this bug.” Hopefully, Respawn continues to have an open and honest line of communication with fans should major problems with the battle royale arise in future updates.

  • Apex Legends players praise “anti-cheat” Prowlers as they are unkillable by hackers – Dexerto

Apex Legends players praise “anti-cheat” Prowlers as they are unkillable by hackers Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have begun heralding Prowlers as the in-game “anti-cheat” after a clip showcased how difficult it is for hackers to deal with the creatures. Since the arrival of Storm Point in Season 11, the inclusion of wildlife nests scattered around the map has been a contentious topic within the community. While some enjoy eliminating monsters for loot instead of just picking it up, others don’t believe it should be a part of the battle royale format, particularly in Ranked matches. Although Spiders will only attack if they’re disturbed, it’s the aggressive Prowlers that get the bulk of the criticism. However, a recent clip of a cheater being unable to shoot the Prowlers due to the interference of their hacks may have shifted the community’s opinion on the agile creatures. Apex cheater can’t deal with unkillable Prowlers A clip posted to the Apex Legends subreddit showcasing a cheater being terrorized by a Prowler has led a lot of players to re-think their opinion on the aggressive creatures. After Reddit user Sartasz was eliminated from the match by a hacker, they decided to spectate them and quickly realized they had an aimbot. While taking on an enemy squad from a distance, the cheater began to get attacked by a Prowler. As the third-party software is designed to directly lock onto enemy players and nothing else, the hacker was unable to kill the Prowler and had to resort to punching the creature to death. Showing their appreciation for the Prowlers, players in the thread began labeling them as the “real in-game anti-cheat”. Some even jokingly suggested that Respawn increase their power if hackers are detected in a match, making it so “every Prowler is invincible and only targets the cheater. as well as let the Prowlers go beyond their intended areas.” While it’s unlikely the devs will ever resort to making Prowlers their main form of anti-cheat, it’s great to know that the wildlife is doing their part to combat Apex’s hacking problem.

  • Apex Legends players plead with Respawn to region-lock Chinese servers – Dexerto

Apex Legends players plead with Respawn to region-lock Chinese servers Apex Legends has a huge hacker problem on its hands, and players are begging Respawn to get it under control before it ruins the game for good. If you’ve played Apex Legends on PC, then chances are you’ve run into a hacker or two in your matches – whether you realized it or not. While it’s possible to run into this issue on console, it’s a lot more prevalent on PC, and Respawn announced they have banned over 500,000 hackers as of March 21. Players of the game, particularly those in Asia, called for Respawn to lock the regions in a Reddit thread to prevent hackers in China from ruining the experience for other players. These players say the Chinese hackers are able to go the closest low ping areas, which are typically SEA or OCE servers that allow for them to continue their hacks on lower population servers – which all be but destroys the player experience for anyone trying to play legit. In the initial Reddit post, games like Day-Z, H1Z1 and PUBG are all cited as games being ruined by hackers in that part of the world. Players also shared their experiences on when the hackers are most active on their servers, showing their fears are slowly becoming a reality. By locking the servers, it would block potential hackers from coming in and restrict them to China, a much larger server. Of course, this problem is still plaguing players across all servers, but locking the eastern servers would go a long way to improving the quality of the game. One thing that would allow us to not have this conversation at all would just be banning all of the hackers, something the team at Respawn is slowly working towards.

  • Apex Legends players plead for Mad Maggie buffs as play rate slides further – Dexerto

Apex Legends players plead for Mad Maggie buffs as play rate slides further Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are pleading for Respawn to buff Mad Maggie after her play rate has plummeted further in Season 12. She currently stands as the third-least played legend on the roster — and falling/ Apex Legends Season 12 introduced the latest legend on the roster, Mad Maggie. At first, she was one of the most popular picks in the season, sparking concern from players and the broader community at large. However, the legend’s weaknesses have been exposed since then, and as a result, her pick rate has plummeted. As it stands, she is now the third-least played legend on the roster, with a measly 2.2% pick rate. In a bid to fix that, players are urging Respawn to take action and buff some aspects to make her more viable. The community even brainstormed ideas and discussed them in the thread to point them in the right direction. “Her ultimate is a bit underwhelming sometimes, and the cooldown for the drill seems a tiny bit high,” said one player. “The ultimate can be difficult to keep in a straight path due to collisions causing it to change directions.” As for the tactical, they added: “I would either like to see a small buff to the diameter of the drill and leave cooldown, give two drills at a time with the same CD but slightly decrease DPS, diameter, and length the drill shoots out the other side of an object.” Another player disagreed about Mad Maggie’s drill tactical needing buffs, claiming it’s “actually useful” in some situations, particularly when it comes to pushing. Instead, they believe her ultimate is what needs fixing. “Her ultimate is really lackluster,” they said. “The speed boost it gives her is negligible. It never really disrupts a team. I think if they just re-work her ultimate, she can potentially see more play as an offensive legend.” Of course, not everyone agreed that her abilities were the issue. “I think she just needs to be all-around more interesting,” said another player. “She needs better skins, more attention from the game, and maybe more dialogue.” Either way, the fact her pick rate is plummeting further is a sign that something needs to change. Apex Legends Season 13 isn’t too far away, so if changes are coming, it’ll be soon.

  • Apex Legends players plan to boycott “overpriced” Prestige Bloodhound skin – Dexerto

Apex Legends players plan to boycott “overpriced” Prestige Bloodhound skin Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are voicing their frustration after a leak has revealed that the Bloodhound Prestige skin will only be available after all 24 items in the Anniversary Collection event have been unlocked. In every Collection event in Apex Legends, Respawn typically releases a melee Heirloom for one of the characters on the roster. These items are incredibly difficult to acquire and have a set of unique animations making them extremely sought-after. However, heading into Season 12 and the Anniversary Collection event, a leak has revealed that instead of an Heirloom, the devs are offering the Prestige Bloodhound skin showcased in the Defiance gameplay trailer. This means in order to unlock the skin, players will need to purchase and collect all 24 event cosmetics which can cost up to $164. While this is the typical price of an Heirloom, a lot of the community don’t believe a skin is equivalent to the prized melee collectibles, and are threatening to boycott the event. Apex players frustrated with price of Prestige Bloodhound skin On February 3, a leak revealed that the Prestige Bloodhound skin was going to replace the typical Heirloom in the Anniversary Collection event. While this has not been confirmed by Respawn, a lot of the community has been discussing whether the skin is worth the same amount as an Heirloom. Although some players believe there is no difference, a lot of the community have called out Respawn and threatened to boycott the entire event. With all 24 items in the event expected to cost around $164, players are frustrated that a skin has been allocated the same value as an Heirloom. Multiple videos and threads have been posted to the Apex Legends subreddit expressing the community’s frustration over Respawn’s decision to include the “overpriced” skin in the event, even calling it out as the “dumbest thing they’ve done.” Although the Heirlooms cost that much in every event, the main argument against Respawn seems to be that skin will never be worth that much, even it has special animations and a unique finisher. With the Anniversary Collection event only weeks away, it’s unlikely that the devs are going to remove the Bloodhound Prestige skin if the leaks are correct. • Apex Legends players plan in-game community party to celebrate New Years – Dexerto

Apex Legends players plan in-game community party to celebrate New Years There are plenty of ways to welcome in the New Year every December 31, from parties with friends, to watching fireworks, and now it looks like there might be an in-game fan-led celebration for diehard Apex Legends fans too. While some battle royales like Fortnite have dev-run in-game events where players can lay down their arms and celerate together — like this week’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker scene aired at drive-in cinema location Risky Reels. Respawn hasn’t had many of those throughout the title’s first year, however, and one festive Apex player is suggesting fans take matters into their own hands so they can see out 2019 with a bang, all while in the game they love. Now that Mirage has brought the party to World’s Edge in the form of his firework-shooting ‘Mirage Voy’age’ ship, Apex fan ‘Dana94Banana’ suggested it might be the perfect place for those not celebrating New Year’s Eve outside to party. “Now that Apex has an actual party location with music, lights, and fireworks, I thought it would be a nice idea to make use of that as a community, for those who for some reason can’t, or don’t want to celebrate NYE outside,” they said. “It seems that quite a few people have issues with this game, including myself, but wouldn’t it be nice to put that aside for a moment and enjoy our time together in this awesome, sudden, and surprising video game that Respawn shared with us?” According to Dana94Banana, the plan would be for everyone loading into a casual match to drop straight to the Voyage ship, “peacefully,” and hit the party-button right when the clock strikes midnight and 2020 finally rolls around. “My idea would be that as many people of the lobbies as possible ALL land at Mirage’s Voyage – peacefully – shortly before midnight in your respective time-zone and then push the party-button when the time is right,” they suggested. “We could goof around a bit and let the match end in one giant boxing fight or something. I’d love to see the Apex Legends community doing something big and sweet all by itself. What do you all think about this idea?” Most players were in immediately, though a few suggested the reach of Reddit, where the idea was first posted, may mean there were plenty of players still gunning for kills and victories across World’s Edge once the clock struck midnight. One Reddit user suggested all partygoers could choose the same three legends — Mirage, Pathfinder, and Gibraltar were one suggested trio — so they could clean out spoil-sport opponents before getting the NYE party well and truly underway. Of course, there were a few players that doubted it would work, and suggested they might just turn up just to pad their KDA instead of getting into the New Year’s Eve celebrations with the rest of the players at the turn of the decade. “Sounds like free frags to me,” said ‘hereatthetop,’ who clearly wasn’t in the festive mood when the suggestion first dropped. Whether or not players actually embrace the celebrations, it’s probably worth a try at the very least, especially for those that will be in-game during NYE anyway. On the plus side too, if the idea gets big enough, maybe Respawn will take notice and add a short-term playlist where players can’t fight and score frags, like Fortnite often does, meaning fans can enjoy the celebrations on the Voy’age in peace.

  • Apex Legends players plan boycott against Halloween event for “health” update – Dexerto

Apex Legends players plan boycott against Halloween event for “health” update Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have called for a boycott against the upcoming Halloween event to force Respawn to implement a server health update. A seasonal update in Apex Legends always includes a brand new character as well a range of other incredible additions, whether it’s a new map or even a fresh mode, the devs never fail to get the community excited. However, with Season 11 on the horizon, the game’s community called for a different style of update, one that just focused on fixing underlying issues and server problems. Despite this being popular among players, the idea was shut down by Respawn, claiming it wasn’t possible to just move all the devs from content creation to bug fixing. In response, a set of players have begun planning a boycott for the Halloween event to force Respawn to “acknowledge the problems” and fix the servers. Apex Legends players call for boycott on Halloween event Server issues and major bugs in Apex Legends have been frustrating the community for a while and one set of players has a plan to force a reaction out of Respawn. Taking to the Apex Legends subreddit, chopinaopolis called all players not to spend any money over Halloween and completely boycott the event. According to them, EA’s only focus is drawing in more money, and fixing the servers doesn’t generate revenue so they’re not interested in addressing the problems. “Please don’t spend any money on the Halloween event… that’s all EA cares about, they could care less about the server issues and bugs as long as they make money”. Despite the thread receiving a lot of attention, it appears Apex players are split over whether a boycott will work. Some believe the sheer amount of members on the subreddit will be enough to make a difference: “There’s 1.8 million people on the sub so that would be a big dent”. Whereas others think the idea has been done before and failed, making it pointless to even try: “Oh is it time to boycott Apex again? I’m sure it will work out this time”. Either way, with Respawn explaining that it’s simply not possible to conduct a dedicated health update for the game, it seems unlikely that a boycott would change the minds of the devs. The community will just have to keep their fingers crossed that Respawn can eliminate and fix these server issues, so players get back to focusing on the exciting new content that arrives in each season.

  • Apex Legends players pin game’s downfall to devs getting “blinded by the money” – Dexerto

Apex Legends players pin game’s downfall to devs getting “blinded by the money” RespawnApex Legends players are wondering why the game has lost its magic, and they’ve pinpointed greed as the main cause. Apex Legends has had a strong presence in the world of online multiplayer since it first released back in 2019. Since then, it has gone through countless changes and additions, but the community doesn’t view these changes as proof of improvement. Now, the fans have blamed the cause of this on the developers focusing too much on making money, rather than making the game a better experience. Apex Legends players think the game is suffering from Respawn’s greed A post on the Apex Legends subreddit simply bears the following title: “I miss how this game used to be.” The post went on to explain that Apex has lost its magic and what made it so fun to begin with: “I’m a day one player, played regularly up until season 6, game just got so boring and lame.” In addition, the Redditor listed several reasons why they feel the game is in rough shape, namely bad matchmaking, lame events, and a focus on microtransactions. That last reason is one that the rest of the community is latching onto as well, with many fans believing the microtransactions are ruining the experience. “The people at the top got blinded by the money and forgot what made people spend the money in the first place, the game.” Many players believe Apex Legends developer Respawn is focusing more on making a profit than improving the game itself, which allows cheaters and hackers to run rampant. One user explains this by saying, “And with all these engine bugs that allow ridiculous movement and cfg’s it’s lost most of its magic.” Of course, there are some defenders of the game who think that a majority of these players are just relying too much on nostalgia, which has hampered their enjoyment: “I’m not saying there aren’t issues, but I think a lot of it is nostalgia. I think the game itself is better. It’s just the player base being what it is, might make it harder for you to enjoy.” Regardless of the reason why, it is clear that a solid chunk of the playerbase has fallen out of love with Apex Legends and feel that Respawn plays a big role in that.

  • Apex Legends players & pros alike outraged as Respawn remove tap strafing entirely – Dexerto

Apex Legends players & pros alike outraged as Respawn remove tap strafing entirely Twitter: TSM_ImperialHal / Twitter: TTrebb / Respawn EntertainmentRespawn are removing one of Apex Legends’ most popular movement tricks, tap strafing, in an upcoming patch. However, the decision has been universally condemned by pros and casuals alike, including ImperialHal, Albralelie, iiTzTimmy, Rogue, and more. Tap strafing opened up a world of possibilities for Apex Legends players. Basically, it allowed players to redirect their momentum mid-air, cutting around corners quickly and bamboozling your foes. Combined with Pathfinder grapples and Octane pads, and you could completely break ankles. However, Respawn is nipping the tap strafe tech in the bud; in the upcoming Apex Legends 10.1 patch, tap strafing will be removed. “Our reasoning: It’s inaccessible, lacks readability [and] counterplay, and is exacerbated by movement abilities. The next patch notes will include a more detailed note about this,” the developers said on Twitter. With tap strafing being a PC-only tech, players have called on Respawn to balance out the tap strafe change with a nerf to aim assist. “Mouse and keyboard is really losing the battle with controller. With limited movement tech left in the game — outside of the basic pads and grapples — some players have floated jumping to other popular titles. “Welp, what little fun movement outside of a pathfinder grapple we had left is gone. • Apex Legends players outline exactly why Horizon needs to be nerfed – Dexerto

Apex Legends players outline exactly why Horizon needs to be nerfed Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have outlined exactly why Respawn need to nerf Horizon in Season 16, with the Gravitational Manipulator growing in the BR’s meta. The meta is always changing in Apex Legends. With new Legends being introduced with each season, and old ones getting hit with various buffs and nerfs — it’s a breath of fresh air for players. The community is certainly vocal about what they want to see too, with fans demanding changes regularly. Now, players are once again calling for Respawn to make some long overdue nerfs — outlining exactly why Horizon needs to see some changes. Apex Legends players want to see Horizon nerfs In a January 7 Reddit post, one Apex Legends fan explained their frustrations with the Season 7 character, specifically noting how the Legend makes no sound at all when falling to the ground. “I’ve mained Wraith for 15 seasons, tired of her state and lacklustre kit, I’ve decided to move my efforts to Horizon, this legend is a crutch that can fly,” they wrote. “Ignoring her gravity lift, probably the most easy reset in the whole game, the fact that she make absolutely NO SOUND when falling from that thing it’s aggravating, I’ve landed on people heads and shoot them in the back without them even noticing anything.” The fan continued: “I can literally flank teams, ult them in the back and spam Arc stars getting easy cracks or knocks. Those issues have to be addressed, why Horizon makes no sound at all?” Another player in the thread noted how the situation is similar to Octane, another Legend that the community took issue with a few seasons ago. “You’ll get crucified for this but the people with brains it makes sense. Same issue with octane several seasons ago,” they said. “This 1000%. She’s ridiculous. If anyone should be this silent it’s Rev,” said another. With Season 16’s release being just a few weeks out, it’d be a great opportunity for the devs to make a few changes.

  • Apex Legends players once again plead to Respawn for big Arenas changes – Dexerto

Apex Legends players once again plead to Respawn for big Arenas changes Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Arenas have always been a bit of a controversial topic in the community, but now that multiple seasons have come and gone without any adjustments fans are back and begging for changes to the 3v3 mode. There has been no shortage of complaints surrounding the current Arenas format. From the start, the game mode was on rocky ground for some fans thanks to what seemed to be a much looser matchmaking system than its BR counterpart. Although a few sets of fixes have been implemented for the Ranked system, the mode never fully climbed back into popularity and players are reaching their wit’s end. Apex Legends players desperate for Arena matchmaking fixes Many fans believe that the issue in Arenas stems from the quality of the matchmaking parameters. Read More: Apex Legends players call for another Crypto rework after “frustrating” Season 12 changes – In the clip embedded below, a Diamond ranked player spectates a teammate who seems to be less than comfortable when it comes to aiming at the enemy team. While that might be the kind of activity expected in a Rookie setting, it makes for an antagonizing experience for everyone involved. That’s why fans are pleading their case one more time. One commenter pointed out that while this might not be such a bad experience if it was rare, the frequency of this kind of matchup makes the entire mode a headache. “I’m Plat 1 and my team is always level 0-40. I ask ‘what is your rank’ every single game and it is always Bronze or Silver. I have never had a teammate above silver,” they said. The last major update for Arenas arrived with Season 11 when the devs dropped the old maps that had been fashioned out of familiar BR locations in favor of implementing new Arena-specific battlegrounds. It was in this update that the first change to matchmaking and MMR was made, but it’s clear that fans are ready for another pass. One frustrated commenter vented their frustrations with the state of things very simply: “Respawn has really just abandoned Arenas.”

  • Apex Legends players offer simple Caustic buff that would make an ideal teammate – Dexerto

Apex Legends players offer simple Caustic buff that would make an ideal teammate Respawn EntertainmentA simple buff to Caustic could make the Legend a perfect teammate to play with in Apex Legends. Teamwork is a critical aspect of winning your Apex Legends matches. But, sadly, not everybody has the means to do so, leading to some miscommunication between players. However, one fan has suggested a way to make improvements. While it’s not much of a change, a simple buff to Caustic could make him the ideal teammate to play with. A thread posted in the Apex Legends subreddit on July 9 by player Xemrin suggests a small change to Caustic which the community seems to be completely on board with. Fans are suggesting an audio cue be added that notifies Caustic’s teammates when his traps are used. “Give Caustic dialogue to notify his team when his trap gets tripped or deactivated,” said the player, noting that other Legends have a similar audio queue. “As Wattson does with her fences,” they added. Others were entertained by the idea, with some making some hilarious suggestions that would make the change questionably better. “How about instead a simple fart sound triggers whenever a trap activates,” said one. Another reminded others that Wattson only gets an audio cue when her fence is crossed, not when it’s destroyed. “Wattson only gets a voice line when someone crosses her fence, not when they destroy it. Both of them should get this, both for being destroyed and being triggered. I don’t know why it hasn’t happened yet,” they noted. “I’ve wanted something like this since season 3, especially since half the time my teammates don’t react when I ping that someone’s behind us or wherever my trap was,” another wrote. It’s certainly an idea that could come to fruition in-game. But with the popular battle royale currently plagued with bugs and exploits, it’s likely we’ll see those taken care of before the devs work on anything else.

  • Apex Legends players notice big difference with Winter Express LTM this year – Dexerto

Apex Legends players notice big difference with Winter Express LTM this year RespawnApex Legends Winter Express LTM is usually a fan favorite, but the game mode did not garner as much hype this year. Apex Legends Season 15 added a new map and legend, but some players disapprove of the game’s direction. Tensions reached a boiling point when the community launched ‘Operation Fresh Different‘ to formalize demands for meaningful updates and new content. Players want fresh new content instead of rehashed and reskinned material. One user argued: “We want a fresh meta for characters and guns, new modes and LTMs, and different context experiences.” Winter Express made its long-awaited return for the first return since December 2021. Fans have previously complained when the game mode is removed because they are so fond of it. However, this year, lobbies are failing to even fill. Is Apex Legends Winter Express LTM losing steam? The Winter Express LTM pits three teams of pre-equipped Legends up against each other in the hopes of capturing a Train or eliminating all enemies. The LTM has appeared in three holiday seasons, always boasting a solid player base. A Reddit user shared a much different experience, claiming players keep leaving games. “Why does everyone leave? I played it every year, and I can’t remember it being like this.” One user responded, “I don’t understand how we’ve been three years with a handful of LTM’s. How hard is it, realistically, to put together a limited-time, for-fun game mode that doesn’t need to be super balanced.” A second player added, “I played two games, and it just feels not as fun. It’s wild. I was waiting for an event, and then the first one a month into the season is crippled.” Some community members theorized the decreased popularity is a result of the game mode removing the ability to shield heal. “The loadouts are sh**, and the mode is worse due to lack of healing. It used to be my favorite game mode but playing it after playing all the previous ones, it just feels like a shell.” Whatever the reason, it’s clear that the once-popular LTM has failed to recapture the same holiday magic as the first three iterations.

  • Apex Legends players mock “pathetic” cheater for dying immediately in pubs – Dexerto

Apex Legends players mock “pathetic” cheater for dying immediately in pubs Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have slammed a “pathetic” hacker for cheating in pubs and then proceeding to die immediately at the start of a match. Cheating is a problem for any competitive video game, especially battle royales like Apex Legends where only one squad can take victory. While some players are happy spending hours refining their skills in the Firing Range, others prefer to take shortcuts and cheat. The most common form of hacks are aimbots, which effectively make it impossible to miss a single bullet from any distance. Although you’d assume this would guarantee you the win in every match, one “pathetic” cheater is being mocked by Apex Legends players after being eliminated in pubs right at the start of a game. Apex Legends cheater roasted after being wiped out instantly During an unranked match on Olympus, Reddit user HammyA and their squad ran into a solo Pathfinder equipped with an R99. The enemy quickly wiped out the entire team in a matter of seconds and seemingly couldn’t miss a single shot. After entering the spectate screen, HammyA quickly realized they were using third-party software and had an aimbot. Although HammyA expected the hacker to go on a killing spree and win the match, only seconds later, they were wiped out of the game by an opposing squad. The cheater heard the enemies coming but decided to take an extremely poor position for the gunfight, leaving them exposed and dead in an instant. Posting the clip to Reddit, HammyA was confused as to why a hacker would decide to cheat in pubs. However, the reaction from players was to mock the cheater who somehow got eliminated despite having an aimbot. “Cheaters who leave on their low-level badge and slap a 4k/20 bomb next to it are not even trying to hide it… They’re beyond pathetic.,” wrote one user, with another mocking the Pathfinder by saying “It’s kinda funny how every cheater is just terrible at the game even with aimbot”. While it’s clear the community has a lot of fun roasting hackers who get caught on camera, the rampant use of third-party software still causes a huge amount of frustration for players. Fingers crossed Respawn rolls out an anti-cheat upgrade in the near future as it would certainly garner a lot of praise and improve the overall gameplay experience.

  • Apex Legends players mock “lazy” skin recolors in the store – Dexerto

Apex Legends players mock “lazy” skin recolors in the store Some Apex Legends fans are not impressed by the latest batch of skins in the battle royale, calling them “lazy” for simple recolors being released as new cosmetic items to unlock or purchase. [jwplayer cf8U9voE]There is plenty of choice when it comes to customizing your weapons or characters in Apex Legends, with Respawn constantly releasing new cosmetics to keep the game looking and feeling fresh. These cosmetics can be picked up through Apex Packs, completing challenges, or with Crafting Metals in the skin menu, and often feature unique designs that will help your character stand out. However, following the latest cosmetics added to Apex Legends, players have criticized Respawn for being “lazy”, particularly with weapon skins, claiming that they have been a little lackluster. Read More: Best new Apex Legends skin ideas – While many of the unique designs often get a lot of love, fans have not been too happy with past skins being “recolored” and reintroduced as a new item. “Lazy” weapon skin recolors? One Apex Legends fan, u/d0gbite, expressed their disappointment with the recent ‘Ghillied As Charged’ camo for the Triple Take sniper rifle, suggesting that it was for too similar to the original skin. Although some skins with alternate color patterns have been well received before, there have also been cases where the original skin and the recolors are so similar that it can be difficult to tell them apart. Reddit user u/SenkoSans highlighted two of the Flatline’s skins, the ‘Spine Chiller’ and ‘Reaper’s Touch’, which were both covered in a blue wrap, and claimed the cosmetics were “hardly different.” Other players have even gone to the trouble of recreating some of these recolored skins, with one fan u/DEA_PL showing that they could be replicated within 30 seconds, sparking calls for more unique skins to be introduced to each weapon. Apex Legends is a totally free-to-play game, and having these skins is not required whatsoever, nor will they provide any kind of gameplay advantage. But, it’s understandable that players may be disappointed to see a skin essentially given a different name and another full price tag, with only minor differences to its appearance.

  • Apex Legends players make surprise pick for Season 12’s most underrated weapon – Dexerto

Apex Legends players make surprise pick for Season 12’s most underrated weapon Respawn/EAApex Legends players have named what they think is the most “underrated” weapon in Season 12, and the answer might just surprise you a little. With Apex Legends having such a massive loot pool these days, every player has different thoughts about the ideal loadout they would want to run in matches. While there are meta weapons – many players opt for the C.A.R. SMG and R301 in Season 12, with the Triple Take also being a popular selection – you can use pretty much every gun on offer on your path to victory. There are some weapons, of course, that players would rather avoid at all costs, but they can end up being underrated as others find success with them. Well, with Season 12 starting to come towards the end of it’s cycle – seeing as the teasers for Season 13 have already gotten underway – some players have picked the most “slept on” weapon in-game currently. While plenty of weapons were given nods by players, one answer stood out above the rest: the 30-30 repeater. “It’s actually underrated. It feels like a G7 to me but slightly better,” said Redditor SuperSlime988. “The 30-30 is outrageously good. It is easy cracks all day,” added another. Some players noted that the lever-action rifle, which was introduced back in Season 8 alongside Fuse, requires a few attachments to really bring out its true power, which can harm its cause in being a respected choice. Other players stated that the Sentinel, Charge Rifle, and Hemlok are also worthy of the underrated crown, but it’s the 30-30 that has won the popular vote. Of course, as we move into Season 13, Respawn will more than likely rejig the loot pool, handing out buffs and nerfs as they see fit. Though, we’ll just have to wait and see which side the 30-30 falls on when it comes to those changes.

  • Apex Legends players make it clear what they want in the next major patch – Dexerto

Apex Legends players make it clear what they want in the next major patch SicList / Liam MacDonald – ArtStationWith Apex Legends due for a major update soon, players have presented a list of things they want to see in the next patch. The latest major update in Apex Legends was released on April 16, introducing a variety of changes to gameplay, weapons, Legends, and more. With almost a month having passed since then, players are becoming more and more desperate for another big patch, especially considering that there are a lot of things in the game that need improving and fixing. With that in mind, Reddit user ‘Techa’ has posted a long list of things that the next update should bring to Apex Legends. Considering that the list received over 1,500 upvotes in just nine hours since being posted, it’s safe to say that a lot of the things listed are stuff that most players would probably agree with. We need exploits and glitches fixed. – We need hitbox adjustments. – We need better tick rate or better ping matchmaking. When an enemy is spraying you and you close a door and the game pretends like the door is open. – We need [presumably Gibraltar’s] new passives to be fixed. – We need minor adjustments to other legends that help improve or smooth them out (like Mirage) – We need to be able to rejoin matches when the server or game crashes. – We need something changed or added to the map to spice things up. – We need new weapons to add some more strategies / effective combat ranges. – We need better loot distribution so we don’t open 5 supply bins and clear 2 rooms to just walk away with mostly throwables and white armors – And most importantly, we need next battle pass to be a heck of a lot better. – As the list suggests towards the end, what has a lot of players frustrated is the fact that Respawn Entertainment and EA promised that there would be a consistent pipeline of updates and patches in Apex Legends. That has not turned out to be the case, however, as the lack of updates has become continuously more noticeable, and that’s not helped by the lack of constant communication from the developers. What can players expect in the next major update? On April 25, EA released a blog post giving players a glimpse at what they can expect in the next major update. Among the things that they’ve claimed to be working on are: Slow server performances at the beginning of a match – Audio issues – Cheaters – Hit registration issues – That being said, there’s no guarantee that the devs will have made any significant strides forward in any of those aspects by the time the next update goes live. When does the next major update go live? There hasn’t been any talk about a timetable for the release of the next big patch in Apex Legends, but the fact that one hasn’t been released yet seems to suggest that Respawn are waiting for the start of Season 2. According to the official game roadmap, Season 2 will be kicking off in June, and EA have already confirmed that it will feature a new Battle Pass, new Legend, “something new for the meta,” and more.

  • Apex Legends players find major problem “ruining” the Gold Longbow – Dexerto

Apex Legends players find major problem “ruining” the Gold Longbow Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have been left very frustrated by the Digital Threat scope that comes as an attachment with the gold Longbow and other in-game snipers. In Apex Legends, a player’s weapons and resources in-game are all determined by what loot they find once they’ve dropped into the map. This loot can come in the form of various rarities and typically, the higher the rarity, the better the item. If players are lucky, they’ll occasionally find a gold gun that is kitted out with some of the best attachments for that weapon. However, the game’s legendary snipers, in particular the Longbow, comes with the 4x-10x Digital Threat scope that some Apex players think completely ruins the weapon. Apex Legends players frustrated by Digi Threat scope It’s not every game that Apex players find a gold gun in-game, so when they do, they’re expecting all of the very best attachments on that weapon. Unfortunately, a lot of them come with unfavorable attachments that according to YouTuber Zeus, can be completely “ruining” the weapons. The primary complaint is that the scope’s 4x-10x magnification is unusable at close to medium range. On top of this, the sight itself is incredibly wide, making it extremely difficult to keep track of an enemy. Although the scope does highlight enemies in red making them easy to see from a distance, for a lot of players, that’s not a good enough reason to use the legendary snipers. @PlayApex NOBODY LIKES THIS SIGHT WHY DO YOU KEEP RUINING GOLD SNIPERS????? Season 8 is fun tho pic.twitter.com/6ahSoCpNoJ — Zeus (@ZeusOfAimAssist) February 4, 2021 Despite the frustration surrounding the gold sniper scopes, a number of replies to the tweet did suggest some simple fixes that Respawn could implement. “They should change it to an ACOG 2-4 scope and then give it Digi Threat but only on gold snipers,” one commenter wrote. Another suggested: “Give me a 2x-4x, add thermal and you’ve got a gold sniper.” It’s obvious that a lot of Apex players are not satisfied with the Digital Threat scope that is currently attached to legendary snipers across the map. However, some possible solutions have been put forward by the player base. Whether or not this will be changed, however, remains to be seen.

  • Apex Legends players beg for Mad Maggie fix after calling her tactical a “nightmare” – Dexerto

Apex Legends players beg for Mad Maggie fix after calling her tactical a “nightmare” Respawn EntertainmentMad Maggie has been in Apex Legends for nearly a full season now and she hasn’t exactly been a star in the meta. A few disgruntled players have shined a spotlight on her tactical as the prime reason. Since hitting the battlefield at the start of Season 12, Mad Maggie’s pick rate has fluctuated quite a lot. She showed early promise on release, but in the days since, she has fallen down to being picked in only 2.5% of all games. While some ideas for buffs have been floated around all season, there hasn’t been a consensus as to what needs to change. Things might be different now though, as one player has solid proof that her tactical is at the root of what is wrong with the Rebel Warlord overall. Apex players call for Mad Maggie fixes As shown in the video embedded below, Maggie’s tactical is supposed to deal 160 damage to any target standing within range over its duration. While that number holds true on the first usage, consecutive castings of the ability show a significant drop in effectiveness, bringing the total damage down to 128. This may not seem like a big deal at first, but for a Legend who is already struggling to keep up with the competition, a bug like this can be a significant roadblock. One user pointed out that her tactical retains value by causing players to move, but that’s just not enough to make it worth using. “I’ve always seen her drill as a way to get someone out of hiding or influence their movement options rather than to do significant damage, but still the damage should ideally be consistent.” Another player noted that the drill has a problem getting through some walls, which further nerfs its effectiveness: “If there are several layers in the wall you’re shooting at, it doesn’t always penetrate all the way through, and gets stuck somewhere in the middle.” There’s no telling if Respawn will give Maggie a second pass in Season 13 but it’s safe to say she won’t be seeing too much action otherwise.

  • Apex Legends players love this ‘Zombies-style’ LTM concept – Dexerto

Apex Legends players love this ‘Zombies-style’ LTM concept Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player pitched an LTM concept with a spin on traditional ‘Last Man Standing’ modes and the community loved it. Apex Legends has had a bit of a rocky history with Limited Time Modes, also known as LTMs. While some LTMs like 2021’s Ring Fury event were not so well received, the Apex community usually appreciates when respawn adds LTMs to the game to spice things up. Now, one Apex Legends player has pitched their own LTM with a spin on the classic ‘Zombies-style’ game modes, and other players loved the idea. Apex Legends fan pitches ‘Zombies’ LTM concept The idea comes from Reddit user TakeThatRipjawsMan on the Apex Legends subreddit, where they asked the community what they thought of the idea. “Basically this is an LTM where when you die you drop your banner as a physical item. So banners take up an inventory slot. The fun part comes from the fact that anyone can pick up the banner,” they explained. After picking up an enemy banner, that team or player could search out the nearest respawn beacon or use a mobile beacon and respawn their enemy. Doing so would add that player to their team. In essence, this idea is not too different from typical ‘Zombie’ type game modes, such as Halo’s classic Infection mode. Though the original poster didn’t flesh out the concept too much, members of the Apex Reddit community seemed to like the idea. “Honestly I think that would be a fun game mode where slowly teams grow until there is just two big teams and the last team standing wins,” said El-Green-Jello. One player suggested that adding some extra respawn beacons to the loot pool or as a starting inventory item could help the LTM concept be more balanced. Another player made the astute observation that the concept was similar to a previous LTM called Shadowfall, but with some notable changes. Though this idea is simply one fan’s concept, it seems the Apex Legends community is all for more LTMs that add some variety to the battle royale.

  • Apex Legends players lost for words after EA posts Mirage ‘booty’ pic – Dexerto

Apex Legends players lost for words after EA posts Mirage ‘booty’ pic Respawn EntertainmentAs Apex Legends Season 12 draws ever closer, EA has decided to give players something they didn’t know they needed… a very cheeky picture of Mirage in action. Many Mirage mains have been up in arms in the run-up to the game’s next major update, after Mad Maggie’s abilities were confirmed. One skill, in particular, has been in the firing line. It has been feared that Maggie’s passive ability, Warlord’s Ire, will disrupt her counterpart’s expertise in making clones. Some say that Maggie being able to track enemies after they’ve disappeared behind cover is yet another easy counter for the Holographic Trickster. With Mirage’s effectiveness in question, there’s no doubt that fans of his might have needed a lift before S12. Well, in the weirdest way possible, they’ve certainly got that… Apex Legends: EA posts cheeky Mirage pic As the Apex Legends community was hanging on the edge of its collective seat, waiting for Season 12 patch notes to drop, the fine folk of EA’s Spain team decided to post a picture of Mirage doing a drop of his own. In what was most definitely the most surprising tweet from EA’s social accounts on February 7, the image showed a close-up of Mirage’s behind. The message translates to: “Don’t say anything, just retweet…” The tweet has since been deleted, but this was the image attached: Twitter reactions: Apex Legends players As you might expect, a barrage of messages was quickly sent in from fans – with varying opinions on the surprising post. Dexerto’s own Apex news account, AlphaIntel, said: “EA are you good?” Another said: “Spain EA built different!” Another user joked: “I can never explain the presence of this picture in my gallery.” 100 Thieves content creator NiceWigg posted: “Oh man someone is waking up not happy about this. Me, on the other hand, am very happy about this.” Oh man someone is waking up not happy about this Me on the other hand am very happy about this — NiceWigg (@NiceWigg) February 7, 2022 The majority of people in the replies will have woken up expecting to hear more about the Apex Legends Season 12 update, which we already know will include a Crypto buff, Caustic nerf, among other tweaks. Instead, they were hit with a pleasant surprise from the most unlikely of sources – EA themselves.

  • Apex Legends players livid as matchmaking bug makes them drop ranks – Dexerto

Apex Legends players livid as matchmaking bug makes them drop ranks Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends matchmaking bug is placing high-ranked players with teammates that are too low for them to play with. This is kicking players from matches and causing them to lose ranked points. Apex Legends is a competitive game at heart which is why its ranked mode is so popular among its players. Whether you’re incredibly skilled at the game or relatively average, there’s something satisfying about progressing through the ranked tiers. This means some players take their competitive matches extremely seriously and want to reach the top of the ranked ladder. Therefore, a single loss can have a huge impact on a highly-ranked player’s progress. Well, a new bug is causing these players to be kicked from their matches and lose ranked points. Unfortunately, there’s nothing they can do to stop it, and it’s unbelievably frustrating. Apex Legends matchmaking bug A thread posted to the Apex Legends subreddit by DropTopMox has revealed a matchmaking bug affecting ranked players. The post has over 26,000 upvotes and over 1,000 comments at the time of writing. Update, December 12: This bug has now been fixed, and Respawn issued one free pack to every affected player. Unfortunately, lost RP cannot be reinstated. The thread includes a video of the user entering a diamond tier ranked game. All appears to be normal until the ranks of his teammates are shown and there is a Gold player in his squad. This causes the game to kick DropTopMox as he is too highly-ranked to play with a Gold level player. Read More: Octane’s jump pad glitch has resurfaced – Unfortunately, this bug meant he lost 96 points in ranked progression and was given a 10-minute timer before he could play again. As you can hear at the video’s conclusion, this left him extremely frustrated. Players are urging Respawn to address this issue and implement a system in which only eligible players are matched with each other, without this type of bug. Glitches like this undermine the competitive nature of ranked and leave players feeling helpless. Fingers crossed, the thread gets the attention of the developers and the issue is fixed as soon as possible.

  • Apex Legends players left confused over strange KD ratio glitch in Season 15 – Dexerto

Apex Legends players left confused over strange KD ratio glitch in Season 15 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have found an interesting bug outside of gameplay, which displays a player’s Kill/Death ratio higher than what it should be. Apex Legends Season 15 is finally here, offering up a bunch of brand-new content like the expansive Broken Moon map. Though, another massive game update means that a few odd bugs and glitches may slip through the cracks until the next patch is released. This time, players have found a strange bug involving the in-game Kill/Death ratio display which has given some players higher ratios than the data would suggest. Apex Legends players find strange UI glitch A post on the Apex Legends subreddit from user JMAX464 brought the glitch to the community’s attention. The caption on the post said, “Has anyone else noticed that the KD ratio is displaying the wrong ratios? My KD should be 1.09.” The attached image showed 3,470 lifetime kills with 3,170 lifetime deaths. While the math would suggest the KD ratio to read “1.09” it instead displayed as 1.9. While not a huge difference in numbers, it certainly means a lot more in the frame of Apex Legends, as a player with nearly a 2.0 KD ratio would be quite skilled in a battle royale. Apparently, this isn’t an isolated issue either as other players sounded off in the comments that they were affected by the same glitch. “I’ve noticed too! Mine should be 1.07, not 1.7,” said user BranislaveBGD. Again, other users claimed their KD ratios were also misrepresented, as a user by the name Partosimsa said “Same. Only have 23 deaths, 24 kills this season and my KDR is ‘1.4.’ I think it’s missing a zero.” While some players wondered how this error could have slipped past Respawn, one player who claimed to be a software engineer offered a theory that when rectifying a similar bug from last season could have inadvertently caused this issue in Season 15. Regardless of how the mistake slipped through the cracks, it’s clear that the numbers just don’t add up. Though a minor issue, hopefully Respawn takes note of this UI bug and smooths it out in an upcoming patch.

  • Apex Legends players launch ‘Operation Fresh New Different’ amid Season 15 complaints – Dexerto

Apex Legends players launch ‘Operation Fresh New Different’ amid Season 15 complaints RespawnApex Legends players have launched ‘Operation Fresh New Different‘ to formalize demands for meaningful updates and new content, as criticism of Respawn and EA grows. Apex Legends is rapidly approaching its sixteenth season of post-launch content, with Season 15, Eclipse, set to be the longest season for a while. However, it has become the first season in memory to receive sustained criticism from the player-base, with the upcoming Wintertide Collection Event coming in for specific reproach. In short, players feel that a lot of content has been rehashed and reskinned, rather than being new and original. On December 3, one Apex Legends fan took to the game’s subreddit to launch their Operation Fresh New Different, claiming “it’s time Respawn and EA listened”. The player, username ‘NizzyDeniro‘, centered their campaign around regular meta changes, better servers, rotating LTMs and new modes. They said: “Skins, cosmetics etc are NOT content… Operation Fresh New Different is a call for action for the Apex Legends community to raise awareness to Respawn and EA… We as a community love Apex, but through the years the game has become predictable, stale and an unexciting experience.” The user finished: “We want a fresh meta for characters and guns, new modes and LTMs and different context experiences… This is a peaceful movement, not a means to harass Respawn or EA.” At the time of writing, the post has garnered over 2,000 upvotes in just six hours, suggesting there is a lot of support for the initiative. Some, though, did compare it to the ‘SaveTF2’ movement, which was fairly ineffectual at bringing about meaningful change. Only time will tell if there’s a future to the player’s Operation.

  • Apex Legends players keep finding “unfair” hiding spots on multiple maps – Dexerto

Apex Legends players keep finding “unfair” hiding spots on multiple maps Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players keep coming across “unfair” hiding spots on World’s Edge and Storm Points that lets characters like Valkyrie retreat to safety, asking Respawn to reconsider what’s “safe” and what’s not. A ‘rat spot’ is the typical moniker for places around Apex Legends maps that give solo players relative safety in a chaotic lobby. They can hole up to wait out the zones, or for unsuspecting teams to come by. In the purview of a battle royale, finding and using rat spots are fair game. But every once in a while, players discover a location that leans on glitches in Apex Legends to make them useful. High-mobility Legends like Pathfinder and Valkyrie, among others, usually have the best luck finding them since they can reach places no other characters can. People like user ‘A1sauc3d’ found one while “stumbling” through World’s Edge. Atop the high walls of the Harvestor’s nearby canyons, the player landed on a ledge that isn’t readily accessible nor within anyone’s immediate eyesight. But the crux of these hiding spots comes in the lack of a ‘Return to the battle!’ warning that the game gives if it detects a person is veering outside the area of play. Another such spot was found on Storm Point’s Barometer in which user ‘ten_cizinec’ bailed out of a bad situation just to see that they were allowed to camp on top of a nearby building. Ten_cizinec managed to not only evade his attackers but also popped a Phoenix Kit to get back to full health. Usually, people slowly slide off angled buildings like this, a hint that they’re not meant to be permanent retreats for players. But the redditor wasn’t being pushed off from his perch and it was fair game as far as Apex’s systems were concerned. Sometimes instances like these are caused by a glitch or oversight by the devs, which usually leads Respawn to fix them as soon as they’re aware of the issue. Until then though, use them to your advantage.

  • Apex Legends players just want this Rampart bug fixed – Dexerto

Apex Legends players just want this Rampart bug fixed Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players think one Rampart wall bug has been unaddressed for too long and are begging for a fix. Respawn recently released Apex Legends season 18, and with the new season came a rework to Revenant, granting him all-new abilities. Players have been enjoying using Revenant much more since the changes, despite some thinking he is too good. However, the Apex Legends community believes that Respawn should have addressed other characters before reworking Revenant. Characters like Rampart have had a frustrating bug plague her kit for multiple seasons. Apex Legends Rampart Wall Bug User HandoAlegra had finally had enough of respawn neglecting Rampart. He complained to the community that “her [Rampart’s] most requested bug still hasn’t been fixed.“ In the video, we see the player using Rampart place an amped wall snug behind a door. This is a commonly used tactic for Rampart mains to stop enemy teams from pushing. The player then opens the door, but when trying to close it the doors get stuck and don’t fully shut. Players find this incredibly frustrating as it ruins their cover and ruins the effectiveness of the tactic. Other fans in the Apex Legends community didn’t have much hope for the OP’s request for the bug to be fixed. One user pointed out that if they have fixed the bug “at this point, [they] probably never will.” Players even thought that a whole rework to the Apex Legends controller Rampart was more likely before a fix to the bug was issued: “They’ll rework her before they fix the door bug.” Though, some didn’t want her to be “reworked”, but rather Rampart’s current kit to be “buffed” and without annoying bugs. But, with Apex Legends Season 19 on the horizon, fans of the game still hold hope that their favorite characters can be fixed or buffed.

  • Apex Legends players just want “infuriating” bug to finally be fixed – Dexerto

Apex Legends players just want “infuriating” bug to finally be fixed Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling on the Respawn devs to finally fix an infuriating bug that’s been in the game for several seasons. Just like many other battle royales, Apex Legends has had its fair share of bugs and glitches throughout its time. More often than not the bugs we’ve seen haven’t been majorly catastrophic or broken the game in its entirety. Although, they’re still certainly frustrating to deal with. Occasionally, some glitches can cause Legends to get a bit of an unneeded buff, or even give them the completely wrong abilities. Nevertheless, players are now asking Respawn to finally patch an “infuriating” bug that has been in the game for several seasons. Apex Legends want annoying lobby bug to be fixed In a Reddit thread posted on December 22, Apex Legends fan ‘bladefinor’ made note of a frustrating bug that switches between game modes in the lobby — which has been in the game for quite some time. “Can we talk about lobby keep switching to trios and nothing is being done about it?” they wrote. “It’s been happening for at least five seasons now. It’s infuriating.” In the replies, others shared their own experiences with the annoying glitch. “Yes!!! I f**king hate it. Jump into a game then realize it’s not ranked,” one wrote. “I was wondering when somebody was going to bring this up,” said another. Nonetheless, it does appear that there’s a fix to the issue. According to one player, if you switch to your preferred mode, and then invite your teammates, it shouldn’t switch unexpectedly. However, if you change the mode while the lobby is already populated, it will change back to your original mode by the time you return to the lobby. “Have everyone leave the lobby. Change to duos and have the second player join after you’ve changed the lobby to duos, and it should remain in duos,” they said as an example. Regardless, we’ll hopefully see the Respawn devs fix the glitch in their next big update sometime in the new year.

  • Apex Legends players just found Respawn’s server room in-game – Dexerto

Apex Legends players just found Respawn’s server room in-game Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends servers have been laden with issues since the game’s release. It seems players are ready to express their anger by burning down the very room they’re hosted in. Shortly after Patch 10.1 was released, frequent outages and interruptions made Apex Legends nearly unplayable for several days. Whether it was completely dropping from the game or just experiencing extreme lag spikes, it was serious enough for Respawn to launch a multi-day fix to take care of the issues. As expected, this resulted in a lot of frustration and has many people calling for major improvements for the game as a whole. Though the game is back up and running without those big server issues, the community clearly hasn’t let go of their feelings about it all. This is evidenced by the collective reaction to finding a server maintenance room inside the game itself. Apex player finds Respawn Entertainment’s server room in-game Players’ reactions to this discovery have ranged from enthusiastic to completely and utterly destructive. One commenter had an optimistic view of how a unified effort could fix the situation entirely: “We need a community event where everyone drops there as Wattson and puts down Ults to see if we can charge these servers back to life.” The rest of the group was a bit harsher about the prospect of things getting better. One highly-rated comment on the thread simply reads: “Thermite grenades…” That seems to be a pretty popular idea, as another user chipped in with a sad diagnosis of the situation as well: “You need to shut it down,” they said.”It’s only going to get worse from here op. I know it’s a hard thing to do but you need to do it.” Problems with Apex Legends Servers The last update on the status of server problems and connection issues came on Sept. 22 when Respawn put out a notice that they had fixed some minor bugs that were causing players to keep disconnecting. We’ve just shipped a client-side patch for @playapex which fixes numerous bugs, including some that can cause crashes and disconnects. See the full list below. We’re also aware that there are still reports of slo-mo servers, and are looking into it! pic.twitter.com/5Ruc9soJD8 — Respawn (@Respawn) September 22, 2021 This could be good news, as a lack of updates likely indicates a lack of internal problems like the ones that caused that initial downtime. Give the game’s spotty track record with these things, it looks as if it’s going to take a lot more than that to convince players that things are on the mend.

  • Apex Legends players jealous as list of Mobile-exclusive Legends leaks – Dexerto

Apex Legends players jealous as list of Mobile-exclusive Legends leaks Respawn EntertainmentWith Apex Legends Mobile’s roster seemingly having leaked online, some Apex players on PC and console are starting to get jealous of the number of mobile-exclusive Legends. When Apex Legends Mobile released on May 17 earlier this year, some members of the Apex community were concerned over what exclusive content that version would get over the standard game. With the release of the first mobile-exclusive Legend Fade, many players started worrying that the phone version of the beloved battle royale would branch out farther and farther away from the original title. Now, players are voicing those fears again after a leak revealed six mobile-exclusive Legends coming alongside eight characters from the original Apex Legends. Apex Legends players jealous of Mobile-exclusive Legends The post comes by way of the Apex Legends subreddit from a user called ‘RChacon09‘ who asked “Mo-Apex Legends is getting all these exclusive legends… why can’t we?” The post shows an image of the leaked roster for Apex Legends Mobile, listing codenames for six mobile-exclusive Legends. Fans knew the Legend codenamed DJ or ‘Rhapsody’ was coming to Apex Mobile, but the other five characters are brand new and some are not happy about them being exclusive. “Hopefully in time they would come to the main game but there is a good chance it probably won’t happen. I definitely would hate to see a mobile-exclusive Legend that looks fun not coming over to [the] main Apex,” said user ‘acidporkbuns.’ Not every player in the thread feels the same way, however as some fans think it makes sense that the mobile game has exclusive content. “Well no one would play Mobile Apex if they didn’t have them,” said user ‘aircrag_J.’ While many disagreed with that sentiment, exclusive characters are certainly one of the factors that entice players to give Apex Mobile a shot. This isn’t the first time PC and console players were jealous of Apex Legends Mobile content, as Loba recently got a long-requested ability in Mobile and not the main game. It’s highly unlikely that Respawn will bring these leaked mobile-exclusive Legends over to Apex Legends, players can still expect more new characters to come in future seasons.

  • Apex Legends players jealous as Apex Mobile adds de-ranking to Ranked play – Dexerto

Apex Legends players jealous as Apex Mobile adds de-ranking to Ranked play Respawn EntertainmentDe-ranking has long been requested in Apex Legends ranked mode as players are constantly left stranded in a division too good for them. This is why it’s disheartening for many to see that Apex Mobile already has this much sought-after system. Apex Legends players always go through that hot spell in which every match you pick up kills, you feel invincible, and as result, you rank up — a lot. The consequence of some good form is that you can actually be punished for it in the long term. Respawn Entertainment’s ranked system for Apex Legends pretty much means that if you manage to break through your standard rank, e.g Platinum and get to Diamond, then you’d better hope you can cope with the increased competition in Diamond as you could be there a while. Many players often get left stranded in a rank that, on average, is above their skill level. Whereas Apex Mobile already has a de-ranking system, and console and PC players are disappointed about this. Apex Legends ranked needs a de-rank Whilst showing off Apex Mobile’s hilarious mocking messages about you being de-ranked in Apex Legends mobile, jealous players also responded to Reddit user Prateek_khr’s demonstration of the feature. Their video showed them dropping down from Master I to Diamond I and the demotion came with an amusing message saying: “Your rank dropped. Such a pity!” It’s an amusing touch by the devs of the game, but it was more the relegation aspect that got to players. One player said: “Why do the mobile players always get what I want for years,” and another user offered: “De-Rank should 100% be a thing for everybody along with a minimum amount of wins to receive rank rewards. Not this “Let me hit Diamond and stop playing” NO, go win a minimum of 10 games before you receive Diamond Rewards.” The Apex devs have addressed de-ranking in the past, and you’d have to think that given how much it’s requested and in demand, console and PC players will eventually be able to yo-yo between ranks with complete freedom.

  • Apex Legends players jealous after seeing new Signature Weapon on Mobile – Dexerto

Apex Legends players jealous after seeing new Signature Weapon on Mobile Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans feel jealous after the Mobile version’s Season 3 update revealed Fade’s new upgradeable Signature Weapon. Apex Legends Mobile Season 3 is nearly here, with the full update dropping on October 19, 2022. The next season brings a bunch of new content including the simulacrum Ash, updated map rotations, and a new upgradeable Signature Weapon for Fade. Unfortunately, some Apex Legends PC and console players are once again jealous of the love Respawn is showing Apex Legends Mobile, with some even claiming it’s time to switch over. Apex players jealous over Mobile’s Signature Weapons Similar to how Apex Legends on PC and console has Heirloom items for specific Legends, Signature Weapons seem to be Mobile’s equivalent. With Season 3, the first Mobile-exclusive Legend Fade will get his Signature Weapon in the form of the ‘Constellation’ bladed weapon, which can transform into bladed knuckle claws or a crescent blade. On top of the weapon’s two forms, players can also upgrade Fade’s weapon six times and outfit it with visual effects and special textures. According to Respawn, “The base weapon can be unlocked by playing select missions to earn Signature Merits or by buying Signature Tributes during special events… In addition, you can customize the Constellation with visual effects, textures, and more.” When we tweeted about this news from our AlphaINTEL Twitter account, fans were quick to voice their opinions on yet another enticing update for Apex Legends Mobile “Who’s switching to mobile…” asked Apex Legends Mobile content creator RoastSmith. Why can’t we have stuff like this for the PC and console version bro pic.twitter.com/oEKQcpvshw — CryoMoon (@FrozenCrescent) October 12, 2022 Another fan wondered why the Mobile version of the game keeps getting enticing content like this and said, “Why can’t we have stuff like this for the PC and console version bro.” Additionally, plenty of players were surprised the base version of Signature Weapon could be earned for free, while Heirlooms are quite expensive for players to purchase. This isn’t the first time that Apex Legends Mobile’s content has earned the envy of PC and console players, as many Mobile updates have included things fans have been asking about for some time. While it’s unclear if Respawn has any intention to update Heirlooms to include custom textures or upgrades, it seems that Signature Weapons will remain Mobile exclusive.

  • Apex Legends players “insulted” by Exotic Shard gun skin prices – Dexerto

Apex Legends players “insulted” by Exotic Shard gun skin prices Respawn EntertainmentSeason 21 introduces Exotic Shards, a new premium currency for exclusive gun skins, and Apex Legends players aren’t thrilled with the pricing model. Apex Legends Season 21 is officially underway. Headlined by new Legend Alter, the spooky skirmisher is coming alongside a new battle pass and the usual weapon and Legend balancing passes. However, one eye-catching addition was Apex doubling down on Artifacts, a sort of universal Heirloom first introduced in the Shadow Society event. These Artifacts require Exotic Shards, a new premium currency, to upgrade. As players have jumped into the new season, they’ve discovered two bits regarding Exotic Shards: they can be used to purchase gun skins, and Shards cost quite a lot. In the in-game shop, 10 Shards will cost $10, 50 (40 with an additional 10) will cost $40, and 110 (80 with an additional 30) will cost $80. So with the current skins costing 50 Shards a piece, collecting both would run players $80. Considering these skins are recolors with a reactive camo thrown on, players are having a hard time justifying the price tag. “I have all the OG versions of both of these guns. Not paying any money for a reskin. And they just gave away this same Flatline skin for free if you did challenges. A different color scheme but same weapon,” one player replied. Others ripped into Apex Legends’ monetization. One player said: “This game has the worst monetization out of any I regularly play. For the same amount I got 2 Elite and 2 eSport skins in Siege with plenty left over.” That said, a few of these Exotic Shards will be earnable in events and Battle Passes. At least 10 Shards will be given to players who reach level 89 in this season’s pass, for instance. Though it’d take time to grind out enough shards to get what you want, at least it’s possible.

  • Apex Legends players infuriated by “disgusting” server issues – Dexerto

Apex Legends players infuriated by “disgusting” server issues Angry Apex Legends players have voiced their concerns about the current state of the game as a terrible server issue has been ruining matches. All players of the free-to-play title want to do is be able to run through matches without encountering any snags or problems that put them at a disadvantage, yet some are claiming that the servers are actually shutting down halfway through the Apex Games. A number of members of the game’s online community have been posting about the problem on the Apex Legends subreddit, with one fan describing the freezing and shutting down of servers as “disgusting”. Reddit user Crouzer7 posted about the problem on December 30, reaching out to fellow players in order to see if this was something experienced just by them, or a more widespread case. They wrote: “Servers freezing and shutting down. Matches not getting recorded. This is happening a lot now. Has this been happening to anyone else too?” The servers for this game – and many other battle royale titles like it – have experienced similar problems in the past and once sounded out to developers, it doesn’t usually take a long time for a fix to be rolled out. In what has become standard procedure when errors such as this occur, we decided to check out Respawn Entertainment’s official Trello page to see if the persisting problem is due to be addressed any time soon. However, there is no mention of incoming server maintenance at the time of writing. Hopefully, things will be back to normal soon.

  • Apex Legends players infuriated as weekly challenges still broken – Dexerto

Apex Legends players infuriated as weekly challenges still broken EAAs Apex Legends’ Season 3 draws to a close, players are still waiting for a fix for the weekly challenge bug, preventing them from progressing and obtaining rewards. Now that the Grand Soirée Arcade Event is wrapped up and out of the way, players are looking forward to what the fourth season of the Apex Games has in-store. However, while some are attempting to gain as much XP as possible to prime themselves for Season 4, they are running into a large hurdle in the form of their weekly challenges. Weekly challenges are broken – four weeks later… Weekly challenges act as a primary method of keeping players engaged in Apex Legends, while simultaneously allowing them to gain XP rewards. Yet, an almost month-long bug is plaguing players’ ability to complete the weekly challenges and rendering the rewards unattainable. There were widespread reports that the same error occurred on PS4 during the Grand Soirée event, but it appears that the challenge bug has also translated across to regular challenges. Following an update on January 28, players vented their concerns to the Apex Legends subreddit, where they stated that “four weeks worth of challenges are still bugged.” Naturally, players have been left infuriated by the absence of weekly challenge rewards, with one Reddit user pleading for Respawn to fix the issue: “Please fix the bug for the weekly challenges seeing as we have 4 weeks of challenges that cant be completed, there are people who won’t be able to finish the battle pass because of this bug.” Another user responded by venting their concerns over how they’ll struggle to complete the Battle Pass before February 4 in the absence of weekly challenge XP. “I did not get my weekly battle pass challenges last week and this week as well.” While Respawn will likely have their eyes honed in on the launch of Season 4, so they should be listening to player feedback and will attempt to roll out a hotfix as soon as possible. Nonetheless, Respawn have shown no indication of this particular issue being resolved anytime soon on the Apex Legends Trello board.

  • Apex Legends helps players improve their play with in-depth match tracker – Dexerto

Apex Legends helps players improve their play with in-depth match tracker Apex Legends players looking to improve their game now have an invaluable tool to help them track and decipher what aspects of their playstyle can be improved on. Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale features various loot items and massive combat hotspots throughout its map, so navigating through King’s Canyon can be a daunting task for some of the more inexperienced players. While finding the best drop zones in Apex Legends is ideal, there’s also optimal pathing, best weapon loadout, and more to consider when trying to earn a Champion’s screen in a lobby of 20 teams. A new tool called Overtrack by Reddit user ‘ZYy9oQ’ lets players see an in-depth review of their matches or the events and actions from games with popular streamers like ‘shroud,’ ‘Mendo’ and more. By using an application called Computer Vision to capture “second-by-second” screen captures, players can get a beat-by-beat analysis of everything that went down in a player’s game. “The program tracks almost everything about a match including second-by-second map location, current weapon, and knockdowns as well as kills, and results,” ZYy9oQ said. “It works by capturing your screen at 1 second intervals and using Computer Vision to extract the relevant information. At the end of each game, it uploads the processed frames to the server, and within seconds has the tracked game ready to look at.” From knockdowns to kills and even map routes taken to weapons used, Overtrack can be a tool for players to take notes on what they can be improving whether it’s the loadout they take into combat or tacking paths less traveled to loot up their squad. While it might not be the flashiest of apps, the tool has an awesome interactable map that lets players literally see how Apex Predators like shroud make their way around King’s Canyon. How to use Overtrack in Apex Legends Players would need to download the OverTrack client which will start to record and process “a screenshot every second” when in use. After that, players will need to set the game to English with a 16:9 aspect ratio in order to enjoy a history of their recorded matches and see how they can avoid constantly getting killed in the opening seconds of a match. Hopefully the tool can be a great resource for Apex Legends players looking to climb the ranks of the highly competitive player base.

  • Apex Legends players could vastly improve with this advanced tracking replay system – Dexerto

Apex Legends players could vastly improve with this advanced tracking replay system Respawn EntertainmentThere are Apex Legends players who have a hard time finding the best landing spots and pathing in King’s Canyon, which would make an in-depth replay system crucial to have. The developers at Respawn Entertainment sat down on April 25 to straighten out their plans for the game with their community. While they laid out the groundwork for future content releases, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to add this replay function in to their agenda. In a Reddit post, user ‘Procyon4’ suggested implementing a post-game replay that would let people see every path players took in that given match. A tool like this would be invaluable for those trying to see where they can improve from either looting or rotating during a fight. Take the path less traveled, because yours is getting you killed Procyon4 remembered seeing a similar feature in a past game which would “show the exact path and combat events that occurred” during the live game. “… Once the mission was complete, it would show the exact path and combat events that occurred like kills and specials in a quick timelapse of the round,” Procyon4 said. “It would be really cool to see something similar for Apex. After the game finishes, you get to see all the different squads and the routes they took overlaid on a map of the arena as well as things like ults and kills.” While the idea wouldn’t be a simple endeavor for Respawn to tackle, a feature like this could go a long way to help improve players get better grasp of the game. Improving the Apex Legends community Simple rotations or optimal situations to use an Ultimate aren’t as obvious for some people, so having a way to peek into the Champion squad’s game to learn a thing or two could help improve the skill ceiling for the player base at large. It seems like Respawn Entertainment has their hands full with cleaning up the game’s major bugs and delivering more batches of content. But once the bigger problems get out of the way, players wouldn’t mind a tool to improve like this.

  • Apex Legends players hit out at allegedly misleading Apex Pack drop rates – Dexerto

Apex Legends players hit out at allegedly misleading Apex Pack drop rates Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have criticized EA and Respawn Entertainment for what they claim is misleading information regarding the frequency of heirloom gear drops from Apex Packs. Apex Packs are a way to unlock new cosmetic items, without purchasing them directly from the store or unlocking them through the game’s Season One Battle Pass. Apex Packs can be opened using Apex Legends Coins, which can be earned by ranking up, or by purchasing the in-game currency from the store. While it appeared that the microtransactions and their drop rates were transparent, an Apex Legends player on the game’s subreddit has revealed that he believes the information provided by Respawn Entertainment is inaccurate, and claims he received little-to-no help from EA when he brought his concerns to them. Apex Packs give players cosmetic items like skins and weapons camos. Why are Apex Legends players upset? In Apex Legends, heirloom sets are a cosmetic set above Legendary, which are extremely rare inside the game. According to Respawn themselves, while there is less than a 1% chance of opening an Apex Pack and finding one, the game does have bad luck protection, and players are physically unable to open more than 500 crates without receiving the heirloom set. This may not be the case though, with a player taking to the Apex Legends subreddit to claim that they “opened over 500 Apex Packs for the heirloom, but [didn’t receive] a Wraith blade,” despite the developers themselves stating this couldn’t happen. The Respawn website states players can’t open more than 500 Apex Packs without receiving an heirloom set. According to /u/OGYungEgypt who posted the complaint, he then tried to contact EA about the issue, who confirmed that while he had opened 500 packs, and apparently spent $300 on Apex Coins, it “depends on your pack luck”, and suggested that he keep opening “more and more packs,” despite the bad luck protection. OGYungEgypt claims EA’s response was that he should keep buying packs. In a comment on the post, /u/OGYungEgypt states that he is now unable to contact EA regarding the issue, after posting about his situation on Twitter. The user also confirmed that he “likes the game” and is “happy to spend” money on it, but states he is “unsatisfied” and being apparently lied to. Many others on the subreddit voiced their support, urging him to keep going in his search for justice, and condemning EA for the way they allegedly handled his complaint. While /u/OGYungEgypt’s claims seem to be legitimate, there is no way to prove that he absolutely opened 500 Apex Packs, although the apparent admission from the EA representative that they “understand he opened 500 packs” does appear to add credence to his complaint. Respawn Entertainment and EA are yet to respond to the claims that their bad luck protection doesn’t work, but we’ll be sure to update this article with any new information.

  • Apex Legends players highlight major concern about Revenant in Season 4 – Dexerto

Apex Legends players highlight major concern about Revenant in Season 4 Respawn EntertainmentPlayers of Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends have shared their concerns regarding Revenant, a new legend who is set to be added with the inception of Season 4, on February 4. Since its February 2019 release, a few bugs have plagued Apex Legends and frustrated players. Among others, significant controversy has surrounded Pathfinder, the traversing robot who has proven incredibly popular among players. The complaints are because Respawn have never quite managed to balance Pathfinder’s hitbox. This is due to his slender frame, which can make him an especially hard target. Players have complained consistently, with many feeling the robot benefits too much from being hard to hit. It seems those fears are now moving over to Revenant, the game’s new legend coming in early February. “The hitbox looks more frightening than pathfinders noodle frame,” one Apex player said, referencing Revenant’s thin skeletal aesthetic. While different hitboxes are commonplace in any game – reflecting the strengths and weaknesses of certain characters – players find it incredibly frustrating to die to an opponent due small or malfunctioning hitboxes. Respawn have been up to their trademark tricks of disguising his abilities and teasing Revenant’s implementation. In a recent teaser, he was seen to be stabbing Forge, seemingly to cement his addition as the next legend. Current leaks suggest movement will be a massive part of Revenant’s abilities, with many comparing his movement to that of a spider: “his crouching and wall climbing animations are so spider-like. It will be a nightmare shooting at him while he is dodging and weaving around.” This, paired with the seemingly tiny character model, have led to many concerns over how difficult Revenant will be to hit, particularly when he is moving. Hitbox concerns are nothing new to FPS games. Many games are criticized for their poor hit registration and inconsistencies among characters. For example, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been accused of having poor hit registration, while Rainbow Six: Siege has long suffered from issues with specific operator hitboxes, like the FBI’s Ash. In Apex, bigger characters like Gibraltar and Caustic can sustain extra damage to balance their bigger hitboxes, while smaller characters like Wraith have the opposite effect. We’ll have to wait and see how Revenant plays in-game, but fans are voicing their concerns that his hitbox will turn out to be Pathfinder 2.0.

  • Apex Legends players have one big gripe with new E-District map – Dexerto

Apex Legends players have one big gripe with new E-District map Respawn EntertainmentRespawn added a new map, E-District, in Apex Legends Season 22 and players are loving the fresh art style and revamped location, but find the loot a little lacking. Players have reported not finding much — if any — ground loot, leaving their initial drop location with only a level 1 backpack holding maybe a gun with some ammo. “I’m running spot to spot to try to get a small loadout to fight, and it’s like 1 ammo spawn or 1 attachment spawn per ‘area that looks like it should have loot,’” one Reddit user said in a thread about the lack of items. “Vibes are great, loot could be better,” another user said. Respawn has tweaked the loot spawn mechanic in this update and Season 21. The previous season made it so players were guaranteed to find a weapon in a loot bin, and Season 22 added loot bin resets that re-stock every location mid-way through matches with more powerful guns. These mechanics, however, do not seem to help much on the new map, thanks to its size and overall lack of ground loot. “It’s honestly ridiculous, I was solo queuing pubs and pretty much any teammate who decided to talk was doing it to complain about the loot being a***. “For such a massive map the loot feels BY FAR the worst out of any of the other maps, I’m constantly out of ammo or can’t find heals,” another Reddit user said on a different thread about the lack of drops. Players will have to endure the lack of loot for a few more days as E-District is the exclusive map for casual matches until after August 12 and ranked matches until the end of August 9. Respawn has yet to respond to the criticism around the lack of loot as of writing but could hotfix the loot spawn rate soon or in the next patch.

  • Apex Legends players have big doubts over Catalyst surviving in the Apex Games – Dexerto

Apex Legends players have big doubts over Catalyst surviving in the Apex Games Respawn EntertainmentRespawn has revealed the newest Legend coming to Apex in Season 15 to much fanfare, with Catalyst‘s backstory being teased in the Stories from the Outlands. But, some players are also questioning how this character will actually fare in the Apex games. While of course every character in Apex comes equipped with remarkable abilities that help them on the battlefield, historically most Legends added since launch have had a rather impressive combat past. This changed somewhat with Vantage, the youngest legend in the game, who was added for Season 14. At only 18 years old, it’s some feat that she’s able to hold her own against trained killers (Revenant), soldiers (Bangalore), and even pilots (Ash) – but her skill with a sniper and growing up in a harsh environment certainly helps. How will Catalyst survive the Apex Games? This question was brought up among Apex players on the game’s popular subreddit, where a player asked, “How is Catalyst going to survive in the Apex games?” The user, u/MediumKeyAF, explained, “We didn’t see how she got her powers. We didn’t see her in combat.” Focusing on the lore, they asked, “How is our good sis going to survive in the Apex games? Why does she even want to join the Apex games?” These are questions that remain to be illuminated, perhaps in the subsequent trailers that will drop before the season releases on November 1. This isn’t a new talking point either. Fans often point to a character like Revenant, who on paper should be able to comfortably take out just about the entire Apex roster single-handedly. After all, he is an unkillable simulacrum, trained to do nothing but mercilessly assassinate his targets. Other players agreed. One commented, “The legends in lore seem to vary immensely in terms of combat acumen versus their in-game potential. I just suspend disbelief, personally.” Another player said, “The character design is very good but the back story is very weak it doesn’t feel like a story.” But, others highlighted that this is really nothing new – giving the example of Season 2 Legend Wattson, who is “a freaking lab assistant who is tender and kind and has a childlike curiosity.” Of course, in terms of the gameplay, none of this really matters, as all legends are on an equal footing (or at least should be) when a match starts. But for Apex’s many lore-hungry players, there are big questions over how Catalyst would actually be able to hold her own in the games. We’ll still have to wait and see though.

  • Apex Legends players have begun encountering dragons in King’s Canyon – Dexerto

Apex Legends players have begun encountering dragons in King’s Canyon Several Apex Legends players have reported seeing dragons, officially called Flyers in-game, flying around King’s Canyon, possibly indicating they will play a big role in the upcoming second season. Through datamines and timely reveals from Respawn themselves, players have at least had an indication flyers would be coming to Apex Legends eventually. It now looks like that day has arrived as many players have reported seeing dragons flying around in the world. Season 2 is just right around the corner so this does make sense. Dragon Spotted!!!! I just saw it again @TitanfallBlog @PlayApex :monocle::scream::shocked:it’s called a FLYER, once you shoot it down you get level 2 bag pack, knocked down shield and body shield plus two weapons. pic.twitter.com/6A0aMCaNC5 — HitokiriAzrael (@HitokiriAzrael) June 18, 2019 Dragons have arrived Numerous players have uploaded videos to social media showing that flyers do exist in Apex Legends but they are currently just flying around and not doing a whole lot. So far there’s no reason to expect the flyers to be hostile and they actually have been flying around carrying loot for players to get. One player even decided to land on one of them and get the loot. Respawn likely has something bigger in store for the flyers once Season 2 rolls around but we at least have a better idea with what to expect so far. If the developers are interested in telling a story with the flyers, this is certainly a good start and it will be interesting to see how this plays out going forward. @PlayApex @TitanfallBlog THERES 2 OF THEM. WHAT HAVE YOU GOT PLANNED!!!! pic.twitter.com/fdF1QO4l7W — BDG Irader (@Irader51) June 18, 2019 One thing that is worth pointing out is they aren’t all that big just yet, meaning they’ll have a chance to grow larger as the season progressed. At the very least, it’ll be exciting to see what Respawn has in store for the flyers going forward. We don’t really know a ton about the lore of Apex Legends but we know the upcoming Legend Wattson’s father build the Apex Arena and now we can throw flyers into the mix.

  • Apex Legends players have already broken Respawn’s big Rampage fix – Dexerto

Apex Legends players have already broken Respawn’s big Rampage fix Respawn EntertainmentThe infinite charge glitch for the Rampage has been a headache in Apex Legends for much of Season 11, but a recent patch took aim at fixing it. After some experimentation, one player has found that the update didn’t solve the entire problem. On December 16, Respawn announced that they had patched out the infinite charge glitch that was allowing players to rev up their Rampages without expending a Thermite grenade. Less than 24 hours later, members of the community began to report that the patch didn’t completely fix the problem, and one user has cracked the case of how players are still taking advantage of this LMG exploit. Apex Legends players instantly break Respawn’s big Rampage fix The workaround plays out exactly like the original, but the window of opportunity to get it right is dramatically smaller. Instead of being able to drop the Thermite any time during the charging animation, players now have to eject it from their inventory in the time it takes for the gun to move from the charging bar to Revved Up. That narrow space isn’t enough for some players though, with one user emphasizing that it’s much more difficult this time around: “I’ve tried doing it multiple times and unable to do maybe I’m just bad. Has anyone else been able to recreate it?” Other players have remarked on how recent fixes on both the Rampage and the Sentinel have had some major drawbacks to the potential of both weapons, with one commenter suggesting that the update might have broken them entirely: “I can’t charge either Rampage or Sentinel in some matches, like the animation does nothing sometimes for whole matches.”

  • Apex Legends players have a hot take on how Horizon’s tactical should be used – Dexerto

Apex Legends players have a hot take on how Horizon’s tactical should be used Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players still use the Horizon “lift” ability mid-gun fight – but some people are beginning to think that isn’t the right way to use the ability. Scottish Astrophysicist “Horizon” is now over three years old. The skirmisher legends has remained a mainstay in many Apex Legends players arsenal, in both casual and competitive play. Apex Legends were drawn to Horizon for her Black Hole ultimate ability, and her movement-oriented passive. However, the primary focus for players was her lift ability. In the hands of both professional players and casual, lift allows Horizon to take gun-fights at her own pace. She has the capability to get new angles on enemy teams by rising to the skies – or to disengage and heal. This ability has been nerfed and buffed during Apex’s tenure as a top battle royale. But some players aren’t convinced developers and players have taken a close enough look at the abilities usage. Apex Legends community support change in Horizon usage In a popular Reddit post one Apex Legends player complains that lift is being used outside of its intentions of “to give her team movement and push roofs effectively.” Horizon’s Lift can be used to strafe while rising upwards which allows cunning players to heal, but players don’t think it’s ok for a legend to “escape + [use a] free battery in an open field.” Apex Legends players drew comparisons to Wraith’s tactical ability “Into the void”, which gives Wraith an opportunity to escape sticky situations and disengage. But players complained that Horizon has “a more effective fight reset than Wraith’s tactical.” Horizon became a staple in Apex Legends gameplay, but player have now become sick of her dominance in the battle royale game. One player surmised some of the communities frustrations – “[she has] the most overpowered and crutch ability in the game.” The new addition Revenant Reborn also drew players’ attention for his new abilities. His new ultimate has both casual players and pros intrigued.

  • Apex Legends players want devs to nerf “ridiculous” Conduit ability – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want devs to nerf “ridiculous” Conduit ability RespawnApex Legends players are upset at the state of Conduit in Season 20, claiming her ability is intended to protect bad teammates. Apex Legends Season 20 delivered all new skins, a new battle pass, and some massive changes to the popular battle royale. Players have been absolutely loving these changes, claiming that no longer looking for randomized ground loot, and having to upgrade your shield makes the game more fair. Still, despite this, there’s usually always something that developers can improve, and Apex players felt that Respawn needed to take a serious look at the shield-replenishing Legend Conduit. Apex Legends fans claim Conduit’s ability is way too good One player had simply had enough of thinking they had won a gunfight, only to round a corner and find them back to full shield: “I am so sick of losing to Conduit Q,” they said in a Reddit post. “Please, rework or just nerf the hell out of Conduit Q, it’s actually so ridiculous,” they continued to rant. Other players agreed, even Conduit mains, and claimed that the ability allowed bad players to make free mistakes without any consequences. “Conduit had to be intended as bad teammate protection. The amount of people I’ve saved or have seen saved by conduit Q is a joke. You’re basically guaranteed a free mistake,” said one player. The community struggled to find a solution that would make the ability fair but eventually came to the conclusion that the best fix would be to require Conduit to have Line-of-Sight on a player to activate “Radiant Transfer”: “Idk why they don’t just make it so it can’t go through walls anymore. That would fix so much”. Still, only time will tell whether Respawn implements these changes, or whether they deem that the Legends kit is working as intended to allow players to make more mistakes and play the game more freely.

  • Apex Legends players hate new Takeover mode: “third-party simulator” – Dexerto

Apex Legends players hate new Takeover mode: “third-party simulator” Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are furious with the new Takeover mode introduced with the Inner Beast event, as fans label it a “third-party” simulator. After the culmination of the fifth-anniversary event, The Inner Beast Collection Event was revealed by Respawn Entertainment. Following similar events, players can unlock 24 uniquely-themed cosmetics and Octane’s second Heirloom. The event also introduced a new Takeover mode, The Hunt. In this, players take on the roles of Hunter and Prey, utilizing additional data pads to facilitate the hunters in locating their prey more easily. Not even 24 hours after the mode debuted, fans are labeling the mode as one of Apex Legends‘ worst yet. Apex Legends player slam Hunt Takeover mode In a post shared to the Apex Legends subreddit, one player let out a slew of criticism on the mode, focused on how The Hunt works. Their complaints center on the experience for solo players, targeting solos, and how the mode replaces the casual battle royale mode. “These game modes could potentially be fun except for the fact that they force it down your throat and don’t even allow you to play the normal game because playing this is now your only option.” The comments on the post echoed similar sentiments on the Takeover mode’s arrival. “I pretty much only play Ranked, but this is probably super sh**ty for everyone that just plays pubs. This game mode is pretty much just a third-party simulator,” one player said. Others lamented on the removal of Straight Shot, the highly-beloved LTM that debuted with Season 20: “They took Straight Shot away and gave us this.” Similar threads flood the game’s subreddit, with players blasting the event in general. Initial player reactions were harsh as fans dubbed it the “Inner Recolor” event. Hopefully, the developers are noting player feedback, especially regarding Takeover modes replacing the core battle royale.

  • Apex Legends players “hate” Crypto after big buff in Season 22 – Dexerto

Apex Legends players “hate” Crypto after big buff in Season 22 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are starting to get annoyed with how Crypto is being played following his massive buff in Season 22, with many of them being baffled by finding enemies in corners. Over the last few years, Apex Legends players have been calling for an overhaul to Crypto. Despite having potentially one of the most powerful abilities in the battle royale, the drone has left him as a sitting duck. In Season 22, Respawn has finally heeded those calls. They’ve given Crypto the ‘off the grid’ passive, allowing him to go invisible while using the drone. That has caused some headaches for the community, with many saying Crypto is already too broken and others being frustrated that new players are ‘ratting’ too much with the cloak. “As a Crypto main, any buff that encourages more drone usage is counterintuitive to how Crypto should be played. It should never be the most optimal strategy to just sit in drone view and play for placement,” one player said as fans shared videos of their recent interactions with the recon legend. “Crypto has a lot of offensive potential most people don’t see, which is good because at least I don’t have to fight against him that much, but I hate what is happening now,” another added, pointing out that players are simply hiding in corners with him. Others are annoyed that he now has more power than someone like Mirage, who has also been waiting for a buff, and has accidentally been nerfed in the new season. “Why can Crypto go completely invisible but Mirage can’t?” one asked, suggesting there needs to be even more indicators of when Crypto is trying to hide. Even though Crypto’s pick rate has steadily climbed following the buff, he hasn’t taken over things. If that does happen, then a quick nerf would be more than justified. For now, however, the headaches he creates are going to linger.

  • Apex Legends players grow frustrated as Evo Shields are still broken – Dexerto

Apex Legends players grow frustrated as Evo Shields are still broken Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer cf8U9voE]There’s growing exasperation amid the Apex Legends player-base as an annoying blinding aspect of the Evo Armor continues to remain unaddressed. Evo Shields are one of the more unique and interesting recent additions in Apex Legends. Starting off as common-level gray armor, this gear can be picked up and upgraded by players by dealing damage on enemies. The more you inflict, the more boosted the shield becomes, until reaching it’s “fully evolved” state, which offers 125 damage-worth of protection. However, as popular as these items have become, they continue to have a frustrating property that’s drawn the ire of users for a while now. As demonstrated in the clip below, these shields have a bright and colorful animation when upgrading, and if that happens to take place in the middle of a gunfight, well, it ends up being a huge hindrance. Hitting the enemy with a straight-up Mastiff shot was enough damage to evolve the Evo armor to its next state. However, the timing was far from ideal, and the animation briefly blinded the player with flashing purple light. While it didn’t end up influencing the result of the gunfight, it really easily could have, and a lot of others haven’t been as fortunate when experiencing this “flashbang” feature. “This is keeping me from picking up the Evo Shield,” one user wrote. “Completely losing your sight on an enemy because of a shield upgrading should never happen. It’s even worse in the dark areas of the map.” While the existence of this blinding animation is frustrating enough, what has a lot of players even more annoyed is the fact that it’s actually been in the game ever since Respawn debuted the new item way back in early March. It didn’t take long for people then to realize that the feature posed a serious problem, but despite similar reports on social media and Reddit, the developers have seemingly turned a blind-eye, completely ignoring what has become a major issue. Veteran players will draw similarities between this and the controversial muzzle flash that plagued Apex Legends for a long time, which the devs ultimately fixed over a year into the game (ironically, in the same update that added Evo Shields). Fans will hope that it won’t take nearly as long to address this issue, but with Respawn still remaining mum on the subject, it could be a while before we see a fix.

  • Apex Legends player’s glitchy portal and jump pad lead to saddest death ever – Dexerto

Apex Legends player’s glitchy portal and jump pad lead to saddest death ever RespawnAn Apex Legends player’s buggy portal and jump pad has resulted in their incredibly sad – yet funny – death. Apex Legends is not a stranger to bugs, with a recent bug causing players to become invincible on the Tridents match. While one glitch can be annoying but surmountable, when a bunch of them hit at once, there’s just not much you can do. One player is facing this reality as a combination of bugs has killed them in the worst way possible. Apex player’s bad luck draws sympathy The clip was posted to the game’s subreddit, where the user titled the post somberly: “It hurts my heart sometimes playing this game.” It’s a pretty downer of a title, but when watching the clip, it is accurate. The clip shows the player, as Octane, running into the safe zone, where they accidentally run into a Wraith portal that takes them back outside of the circle. They then try to go back into the portal to get back to safety. But, instead of going back through, while their screen takes on the look as if they were teleporting, their character doesn’t move and keeps taking damage. This is where the next bug happens, as they try to run back to safety, they throw out Octane’s jump pad, but this also glitches out and disappears, leaving them stranded. They take a moment to pause as they realize their inevitable death. The clip then ends as they do so. Many of the responses have been humorous, pointing out how perfectly the glitches occurred together to ruin the game. One player posted: “So much that could’ve went wrong did go wrong.” Others pointed out how broken it is, with one user commenting, “now this is peak broken.” The original poster, and everyone responding, is very tongue-in-cheek about the whole thing, showing that it hasn’t ruined their passion for Apex Legends.

  • Apex Legends players getting impatient as major feature is still missing – Dexerto

Apex Legends players getting impatient as major feature is still missing Apex Legends was released as a surprise in February 2019 and has been updated constantly since with new modes, maps and events, but it’s still missing one major feature that fans have been asking for – a replay mode. Apex burst onto the scene with a fresh take on the battle royale genre, embracing the ‘hero’ shooter concept from games like Overwatch into the gameplay. It was a massive success, reaching 50 million players in its first month, but the game was lacking a lot of content early on. This was addressed when the first ‘season’ began, adding a battle pass and more. There’s been a further two seasons since then, with Season 3 now underway, which even added an entirely new map, and a new Shadowfall LTM – a zombies-style twist on a night time map. But, throughout all these changes, a replay mode has still never been added. Fortnite and PUBG, Apex’s two closest rivals in the battle royale space both have a replay mode, allowing players to watch back their matches, and have done for over a year. Apex, meanwhile, has no such feature, meaning players will be required to manually record their own matches, if they want to go back to see highlights or investigate an issue they had. Players are becoming increasingly impatient with the lack of this feature, pointing out that it helps not only users but developers too, because evidence can be given for bugs and other issues even if the player can’t record at the time it occurred. It could also help to better identify cheaters and hackers, as players could record supporting evidence to prove someone was getting an unfair advantage. A replay mode would also make content creation for YouTubers and streamers of Apex Legends even easier, as they would be able to record alternative angles, their enemies POV and more. However, Respawn themselves are yet to address the topic of a replay mode at all. It doesn’t feature on their public Trello board as a ‘user-requested feature’, despite countless requests on social media and Reddit. Perhaps there is a development reason for this which we are unaware of, but if Respawn are able to make it happen, a replay mode would undoubtedly enhance the game overall.

  • Apex Legends players get unreleased Wintertide rewards early in-game – Dexerto

Apex Legends players get unreleased Wintertide rewards early in-game Respawn/EAAn unusual Apex Legends bug has apparently given some players a brief sneak peek at the 2022 holiday event, Wintertide, as they’ve gotten some rewards early. With the holiday season right around the corner, game developers across the globe will soon start rolling out their in-game celebrations – and Apex Legends is no different. Over the past few years, Respawn Entertainment has dropped the Holo-Day Bash event that includes a whole host of new skins, cosmetics, and the popular Winter Express limited-time mode. As Season 15 Ecplise has gone live, bringing Catalyst and the Broken Moon map to the battle royale, some players have seemingly already gotten their hands on rewards for the event a bit early. Apex Legends Wintertide event badges leaked already Twitter user Typical_Wraith was the first player to flag the unusual discovery, noting that they’d got badges for the ‘Wintertide’ event in their inventory. They’re not alone, however, as Apex YouTuber Garrett was also able to find the badges. So far, these badges are the standard ones we’ve seen before, centered around dealing damage, getting kills, and healing yourself in any mode during the event period. Despite not tagging them on Twitter, Typical_Wraith did get a number of responses from EA’s help service for ‘problems’ with badges. Though, a number of players joked that they were just trying to get them back after the badges got out into the wild a bit too early. Previous winter events have gone live in early December – right around December 7 – and that will likely continue this time around. Leakers have already gotten their hands on some of the skins, banners, and other cosmetics that will be dropping in the event. Others have claimed that the Winter Express LTM will also make a return. Though, that’s not confirmed as of yet.

  • Apex Legends players furious with “unplayable” lag “ruining” Season 20 – Dexerto

Apex Legends players furious with “unplayable” lag “ruining” Season 20 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are claiming the battle royale is currently “unplayable” as lag issues are “ruining” the game following Season 20’s release. Apex Legends Season 20 launched on February 13, bringing a long-needed breath of fresh air to the battle royale. While there were no major additions, the update was still packed. Legend Upgrades were the biggest addition in the Season 20 patch, but they came with an overhaul to the Ranked system, the long-awaited 120fps next-gen console upgrade, and a ton of Legend tweaks. Season 20 of Apex Legends is, in many ways, a very different game. But, nevertheless, players are lashing out with their frustrations, calling the game “unplayable” due to the connection issues that have emerged since Season 20’s release. Apex Legends lag issues are “ruining” Season 20 In a Reddit post on February 18, an Apex Legends player claimed the battle royale is “ruined” as they’ve encountered some of the “worst lag they’ve experienced” in any game since the update. “I started playing Apex halfway through ignite so this is my first season start. Is this normal? The lag is the worst lag I’ve experienced in a game and it’s every game except when I play Mixtape,” they explained. The player added: “Last match I played I started getting shot at and turned to run through a door. The lag then jumped me backwards as if Spiderman himself has slingshot me. It was so ridiculous I just burst out laughing.” In the replies, others explained their own experiences, with some claiming Apex has become “unplayable” as a result of the networking issues in the game. “I have had bad lags every other day and it’s unplayable,” said one. “I’m having high ping on SG servers since last season. I used to get 20ms but now it’s 200ms. Sh*ts infuriating,” wrote another. “Yeah my game will freeze basically for 5 seconds once or twice every match. Got me killed a few times lol. Never happened before the update,” one player explained. A bunch of small posts have popped up on the subreddit, making it clear many players are having this issue. And, while it could be the fault of the players’ internet in some cases, the sheer quantity of users hitting out at the game’s servers make it likely something else is going on here. For now, we’ll just have to cross our fingers and see if the devs find whatever’s causing the issue.

  • Apex Legends players furious as console lag remains after Feb 10 patch – Dexerto

Apex Legends players furious as console lag remains after Feb 10 patch Respawn EntertainmentConsole players of Respawn Entertainment’s popular battle royale title have grown frustrated as a February 10 update failed to fix a wide array of prominent Apex Legends issues. Apex Legends was hit with a console patch today in an attempt to address recent stuttering and freezing issues. It appears as though the update hasn’t quite resolved everything though as the community has highlighted a number of complications in the most recent version of the game. From laggy gameplay to enemies not appearing properly, the console experience seems to be bogged down by just as many issues as before. Attention Legends: we’ve released a patch today for Xbox One to address performance issues. Please make sure to update your client! — Apex Legends (@PlayApex) February 11, 2020 Initially labeled as ‘game-breaking’ issues, many console players have been putting up with subpar gameplay of late as Apex Legends has become more and more trying due to widespread performance issues. Deploying an update on February 10, the Xbox One community in particular was supposed to be treated to a smoother performance from this day forward, yet a number of players have been reporting similar bugs. “What exact ‘performance issues’ did it fix?” Reddit user ‘leefybeefy’ questioned as they showcased stuttering gameplay that made it a challenge to even so much as move without rubber-banding back into place. Eventually, when they were able to break free of the invisible shackles, the experience was choppy at best with their character constantly skipping from moment to moment. Similarly, Reddit user ‘Lotus_experience’ argued that the February 10 update actually made the game “worse on Xbox,” as opposed to improving it. After dropping into a fresh battle, they looted a few nearby containers for some early-game equipment. Trading out an EVA-8 Auto Shotgun for a Havok, their weapon vanished entirely, leaving them running through the map unarmed. Before long the game stuttered again, and they were shot down amidst the lag. Without any real say in the matter, the player was taken out of the equation before they were even able to put up a proper fight. Despite their efforts to remedy the situation and ensure a smooth gameplay experience for console players with the recent update, it appears as though Respawn still has its work cut out to reach an even playing field. There’s no telling when another update may be issued, though given how quickly the developers tried to implement an initial fix, it’s likely that console players won’t be left in the dark for too long.

  • Apex Legends players furious as “unacceptable” lag & hit reg issues still not fixed – Dexerto

Apex Legends players furious as “unacceptable” lag & hit reg issues still not fixed Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have hit out at developers Respawn over unsolved and “unacceptable” lag and hit registration issues, with the game approaching its fourteenth season of post-launch content. Despite the game’s overwhelming popularity, some players have long had issues with Apex Legends in the arena of connectivity and lag. While the basic fixes (wired internet, clearing caches, etc) can help some players, problems remain prevalent for many. Respawn have recently reiterated their commitment to improving the situation but, with the game’s fourteenth season rapidly approaching, many argue it should be a more stable situation at this point in Apex Legends’ life cycle. Those feelings were channeled in a July 2 Reddit post from player ‘Decepti05‘, captioned: “It’s just unacceptable at this point.” Attached was a clip showing the player mid-game with no issues. However, upon approaching and firing on an enemy, the game began flashing the dreaded lag symbols and jumped forwards, leaving the player eliminated. Thousands of players upvoted the post, suggesting they experience similar problems. Most egregiously, many reported having no lag indicators until they begin firing at an enemy – much like the OP’s experience. One commented: “For me, it sometimes feels like it has to do with an interaction with the other squad. So long as nobody is actually interacting, you’re just nearby each other the game is fine, but as soon as somebody pings enemies, shoots, or throws a grenade/ability, then the game just goes… “The enemy won, I guess?”” Another echoed the sentiment: “This sh*t happens to me all the time. Every game. Sometimes I can’t even get my gun out before I die. It’s like the errors just happen as soon as the action on-screen gets complicated.” Respawn have not responded to the specific complaints but, with many players still affected, we hope to see stability and connection improvements moving forwards.

  • Apex Legends players furious as official account mutes cheater infestation comments – Dexerto

Apex Legends players furious as official account mutes cheater infestation comments Electronic ArtsApex Legends players are up in arms over the official X account purposefully muting a comment, which criticizes the game for not addressing cheating issues. A July 17 post was flooded with comments bashing the game’s recent battle pass overhaul, the prevalence of cheaters in the game, and other changes made during season 22. Among the chaos, a content creator named Soupy made his stance on the current cheating situation in the game known. “I need help fighting half a lobby of straight cheaters,” he said in a reply on X. Soupy was not the only one commenting on the number of cheaters being spotted, but the account seemingly singled him out. Another commenter replied to him and pointed out that his comment had been hidden, prompting Soupy to screenshot the thread for evidence. He then called out Apex Legends in a follow-up post that received over 130,000 views and nearly 4,000 likes. The post and screenshots also made their way around Reddit for an additional 2,000 upvotes. “They are probably tired of hearing about it. Soon, they will play the victim card. It’s not fair to expect them to be qualified to do their jobs efficiently,” said one Redditor. “They’ve always hidden comments like this, nothing new,” stated another. Soon after going viral for suppressing comments about cheating, the official Apex Legends account unhid Soupy’s post in an attempt to save face, but the community was having none of it. “Imagine putting as many hours into the game like you do just to be muted by the same game. What is going on man,” said one player in response to Soupy’s muted comment. For now, the comment remains up under the sea of unsatisfied players who wish Apex Legends’ developers would address the cheating issues that have driven players, including streamer HisWattson, from the game.
