Apex Legends players baffled by “silent” nerf in Harbingers Collection Event update Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have questioned why Respawn dropped “silent” nerfs to Fuse following the recent Harbingers update after they’ve found that one trick has now gone. While battle royales like Warzone and Fortnite typically have to worry about weapons being balanced, Apex Legends also has legend balancing to contend with. Over the years, whenever a new character is introduced to the battle royale by Respawn, they’re typically a bit overpowered. That prompts a mid-season update to adjust a few things, which also gives the devs a chance to tinker with a few other legends too. They’ve done this recently in the Harbingers Collection Event, as both Horizon and Revenant were hit with pretty sizable nerfs. However, other legends have also been tweaked, and fans are annoyed that those changes weren’t mentioned in the patch notes. Apex Legends fans annoyed by unannounced Fuse change The one change that has really gotten some backs up relates to Fuse – who, funnily enough, got his Heirloom in this Collection Event. The Aussie explosives expert is no longer able to zoom in while aiming grenades or using his Knuckle Cluster, and that has annoyed a number of fans. “It actually annoys me when they remove stuff without putting it in the patch notes. For instance, Fuse you could zoom in with his tactical and grenades, now you can’t!” said dismayed Redditor ashowlyy on September 25. “What’s more annoying to me is not knowing if they did it on purpose lol,” added another commenter. “Bring this back I don’t understand why it was removed (if it was intentional)” said another. Others argued that it was “basically pointless” in the first place, but it has now been removed for one reason or another. If it was a purposeful nerf, it wouldn’t be the first time that Respawn has amde a change and not announced it. Seer was hit with a secret nerf during the height of his popularity. So, they’ve clearly got form for it.

Apex Legends players baffled by FF7 Rebirth Tifa Wraith skin – Dexerto
Apex Legends players baffled by FF7 Rebirth Tifa Wraith skin Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans are confused over Wraith’s Tifa-inspired FF7 Rebirth crossover skin, which some players claim doesn’t look consistent with the character. Apex Legends announced a crossover event with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which is set to begin on January 9, 2024. The event features plenty of references to FF7 like a new roster-wide Heirloom in the form of Cloud’s iconic Buster Sword and plenty of themed Legend skins. However, some fans are confused over Wraith’s Tifa Lockhart-inspired skin, with many players saying the design isn’t overly consistent with the female protagonists’ new or old looks. Apex Legends fans confused over FF7 Rebirth Wraith skin design A post on the Apex Legends subreddit sparked a discussion among the community after one fan pointed out that Wraith’s FF7 Rebirth skin looks like a mix of Vincent and Tifa. “Why is Wraith skin a mix of these two,” the OP asked and provided an image to prove their point. The image shows renders for Tifa and Vincent from FF7 Rebirth, along with concept designs for Wraith based on each character. The final product does seem to pull in elements from both characters—especially Vincent’s red scarf and cape. Some fans wished the final Wraith skin design would have been solely based on Vincent. “The full black version looks so unbelievably good why didn’t they just use him and not Tifa,” said one player. Others were confused as to why the team would take “artistic liberties” with the skin with a fully sanctioned collaboration. “I’m just confused they skirted the lines on the anime skins (Octane Luffy, etc) because of legal issues now they have the complete rights but they want to add artistic liberties to it why?” Others guessed a one-to-one parallel of Tifa would be too risque. “The first one is probably too revealing for Apex standards,” another said. However, one player pointed out the most likely reason for the final look. “To keep a consistent silhouette. Wraith has a scarf on her default skin, so good practice is to have some form of scarf/high collar on her skins for consistency sake,” they noted. While Wraith’s crossover skin certainly takes more elements from Tifa’s design, it seems not every player is a fan of the added Respawn-flare in the final version.

Apex Legends players baffled by “extremely slow” movement after Season 20 update – Dexerto
Apex Legends players baffled by “extremely slow” movement after Season 20 update Respawn EntertainmentSome Apex Legends players are frustrated after experiencing “extremely slow” movement issues in game. Apex Legends Season 20 brought an immense overhaul to many game mechanics and tools that have been present since the battle royale’s release, like the massive change to shields. This removed all shields from ground loot, forcing Apex players to level up their own shields, and also granted players the option to get perks upon moving up a tier. Players have been enjoying this change, feeling that it has made the game more competitive and not so luck-based, however, some people have felt that Respawn’s update has introduced some movement issues to the game. Apex Legends players frustrated with inconsistent movement One player shared their frustrations on social media, complaining that something felt off about the movement in Apex Legends Season 20. “Movement is different,” they said. “I feel extremely slow. Feels like I lose momentum faster and need more to slide.” Other players agreed that they had been having some strange movement issues that had been negatively affecting their gameplay experience. “I get deadslides and weird slowdowns from time to time, feels kinda like rubberbanding but there’s no connection symbols or packet loss, idk what’s up,” said one player. Man, multiple times this season when I’m trying to get cover, I go for a slide, and I end up just crouch walking. Also had some issues with ziplines, seems like a delay when I interact with it, but no symbols for me either,” agreed another. However, while some players had been experiencing negative movement effects, others reported that movement issues from the previous season had been fixed with the new update, so it seems to vary per individual. If Respawn issues a change we will be sure to keep you updated via our dedicated Apex Legends page.

Apex Legends players baffled by Apex Coin prices in Season 14 – Dexerto
Apex Legends players baffled by Apex Coin prices in Season 14 Respawn/EAApex Legends players have been left scratching their heads at Respawn Entertainment’s store prices, with Apex Coin values seemingly all out of whack. Despite the acclaim and popularity with which Apex Legends has been received, there have been minor controversies surrounding the battle royale’s store and purchasable in-game content. While completely understandable given Apex Legends’ status as a free-to-play title, some players believe EA and Respawn overcharge for legend skins and that some content is too hard to acquire through routes that don’t involve investing money. Now, based on Apex Coin values provided by the in-game store, players have been left more confused. Apex Legends players baffled by Apex Coin in Season 14 In an August 21 Reddit post, one player highlighted the seemingly nonsensical prices. While the 500 Apex Coin bundle has long been requested by players, it comes in at $4.99, meaning it is 100 Apex Coins per USD. Bizarrely, the 1,000 Apex Coin bundle comes in at $11.29, meaning that it’s actually cheaper to purchase two 500 Coin bundles than one 1,000 Coin bundle. Echoing many players’ feelings, the Redditor simply asked: “Can someone explain this?” Some players responded to say their bundle’s price appeared cheaper, so there is the potential for it to be a currency conversion problem on the Apex store’s behalf. However, others did say they had the same issue and criticized EA for the bizarre prices listed. One player, for example, said: “Probably because this way people will buy 2 x 500 [Coins], thinking they are cheating EA out of money, when in fact, they were the ones bamboozled.” Respawn or EA haven’t responded to the prices or players’ confusion but, given the dialogue that’s surrounded the store over the past three years, we expect it to rumble on into Season 15.

Apex Legends players baffled as club named after Indonesian rice gets banned – Dexerto
Apex Legends players baffled as club named after Indonesian rice gets banned Respawn Entertainment / @makanmalaysiaukAn Apex Legends club was absolutely baffled after EA hit them with an ‘inappropriate content’ warning for their club’s name, despite it meaning… “rice stall” in Indonesian. Clubs are pretty useful in Apex Legends, allowing friends and strangers alike to group up under a common banner in Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale. But the name of your club is a difficult decision, like a logo you’re willing to slap across your jersey. Well, just as the Washington Football Team have — until further notice — decided to represent the sport of football in their branding, an Apex Legends club decided to rep their preferred Indonesian meal. Unfortunately, EA don’t appear happy with the name, sending out a formal warning to members of the “Warteg Nasi” club. One such member (whose Reddit name is fittingly also food-related), ‘CrispySalty,’ took to the internet to complain. The club’s name, “Warteg Nasi,” roughly translates to “rice stall,” with a warteg being the shorthand version of “warung tegal” (essentially a food stand) and nasi being rice (which foodies might recognize from “nasi goreng,” Indonesian fried rice). And, according to EA, the name “is in violation for being offensive, obscene, hateful, or inappropriate.” This obviously doesn’t make sense given rice’s history as a harmless food, but people in the comments have jumped to certain conclusions. Most seem to believe that either “war” or “nasi” were flagged. Given how racist players can get in anonymous online communities, it’s likely a good thing that EA are being proactive about targeting workarounds. But it’s still unfortunate for CrispySalty and the rice stall gang, who now need to find another way to represent their tastes. For now, EA haven’t laid out any significant player bans — simply disallowing the club’s name. So CrispySalty has turned to a new, less gourmet club name: Team Octane 101281.

Apex Legends players baffled after discovering bullets ricochet – Dexerto
Apex Legends players baffled after discovering bullets ricochet Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player discovers bullets ricochet while in the Firing Range, leaving them and others baffled by the discovery. Since its release in 2019, Apex Legends has been full of unique easter eggs and neat discoveries to uncover. Conduit’s launch earlier this season perfectly captures that sentiment, as the Legend is full of unique and charming character-select quips. That said, there’s most likely a world full of discoveries to experience as more players load in, push Apex Legends to its limits, or do something never done before. The latest discovery is an odd one, as one player uncovered bullets can ricochet. Apex Legends player discovers bullet ricochet In a short video shared to the game’s Reddit, user YourTastyMelon discovered bullets ricochet off teammates. While it may not seem like a crazy occurrence, the standard interaction in Apex Legends is bullets will hit teammates and make a shield noise upon contact. Yet YourTastyMelon proved that to be somewhat incorrect, as their shots ricocheted off their teammate and into the walls of the Firing Range. This discovery led viewers to put their brains together to determine an explanation for this phenomenon or even wonder if damage could be done to someone. “Please have a 3rd friend join you and have them stand where the bullets go. Curious to know if it will deal damage but I for some reason doubt it,” one viewer replied. However, another responded: “My guess is the tracer effect itself has some ricochet code to it to make the effect look more natural, but the actual damage projectile probably doesn’t.” Perhaps it is just a visual experience to make the game seem more realistic. That said, the bullets do land on the wall realistically so maybe it’s more than a visual.

Apex Legends players attempt to climb Ranked without using guns – Dexerto
Apex Legends players attempt to climb Ranked without using guns Respawn EntertainmentA group of Apex Legends players is attempting to climb the Ranked ladder with one big handicap: they aren’t using guns. For those who want to test their skills in Apex Legends while coordinating with a squad or playing solo, the Ranked playlist is usually the way to go. Progressing through Ranked can be quite challenging, even with a dedicated team of three players. However, some players find the challenge of Ranked to be a bit too easy. Now, one group of Apex Legends players is embarking on their own Ranked challenge where they aren’t allowed to use guns to get kills and come out victorious. Apex Legends players climb Ranked without guns A video of the challenge gained traction on the Apex Legends subreddit, where content creator JohnnyPriceTV posted a clip of some of the victories he and his squad managed to achieve during the challenge. The video showed Johnny as Horizon and his fellow team members playing Caustic and Fuse, using various tactics to survive throughout the match and make it to the final ring. When asked if this was a self-challenge or just brought on by a late respawn, the streamer confirmed it was a “challenge with two friends! I rotate between a couple different people(whoever’s available), but we all do no guns. Got from bronze 4 – plat 3 (almost plat 2).” The team clearly put a lot of thought into their squad composition, as each Legend has unique abilities that can perform well in this particular challenge. Specifically, the combination of Horizon’s Ultimate ability and Fuse’s reliance on collecting grenades makes for a potent combination when guns are off the table. The video itself is a brief montage of some of the team’s final circles, which prove to be chaotic and tense. While some were skeptical that the team was just ratting until the final circle, Johnny assured users that they were “pretty aggressive” during matches. “We cleared 8000 RP in like three streams. We just try to third fast and rotate.” Going from Bronze 4 to Platinum 3 is respectable on its own, but doing so without using guns is quite the feat. Hopefully, JohnnyPriceTV and crew can climb even higher before Season 17 begins.

Apex Legends players argue complex movement tech should be removed – Dexerto
Apex Legends players argue complex movement tech should be removed Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have argued that complex movement tech that requires players to use macros or alter CFG files should be removed altogether. One of the biggest draws for Apex Legends among the community is the game’s movement system, which allows players to pull off some crazy stylish maneuvers in the thick of firefights. Over the years, players have even developed advanced movement mechanics like tap strafing, wall bouncing, and supergliding which have changed the way many fans play the game. However, some fans think that a few of these movement techniques have gone too far, and have argued many of these “abnormal” movement techs should be outright removed from Apex Legends. Apex Legends fans call to remove “abnormal” movement tech A post on the Apex Legends subreddit sparked a discussion among fans after one player made a thread titled, “Am I the only one who thinks it’s time to get into movement mechanics and remove half of the abnormal techniques?” The OP explained that they use “classic” movement tech like superglides and tap strafes, but have become frustrated with seeing more and more players use advanced movement tech. “Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against hard-to-execute movement mechanics, but some of them do have too much efficiency, which is literally comparable to cheats from other games. All these zigzag superglides, neostrafes, pito strafes should be removed from the game in my opinion.” They specifically argued that movement tech that requires altering CFG files and using macros is problematic. Many fans in the comments agreed with the sentiment. “Stuff that is basically an exploit yeah. Particularly since people then use macros to abuse it,” noted one player. Another fan claimed that running into players who use these exploits have made Apex less enjoyable. “Facing so many config-driven people has soured me on Apex. The fun part for me has always been how it rewards smart play and has a [time-to-kill] long enough to make group fights and third-partying interesting.” Others argued that if the movement tech “can’t be used on a fresh install with default keybinds” then it should be removed from the game. Whether or not developer Respawn Entertainment can easily implement such changes is another matter entirely, but it’s clear some players are getting fed up with how movement in Apex Legends is evolving.

Apex Legends players aren’t happy with icon changes in the Season 2 update – Dexerto
Apex Legends players aren’t happy with icon changes in the Season 2 update Respawn EntertainmentThe major Season 2 patch for Apex Legends brought a ton of updates that players are sure to appreciate, but one of those changes lie in some of the new character icons – which a lot of people aren’t loving. The next chapter in the Apex Legends lineup of events is called Battle Charge, which is introducing a new round of content for players to drain hours into unlocking. While the devs have also included a host of updates and improvements for the game, according to some of the fanbase they might want to reconsider some of the changes made specifically with the legend icons in player select. After the Season 2 update hit the live servers, players have been criticizing the latest Legend icons which they think are more of a downgrade than anything else. In a Reddit post, user ‘TheyBeHatin’ noted that they “don’t know how [to] feel about these new faces,” seeing as some legends were seemingly given a more rounded or distorted look than their past iteration. More users are confused by the new designs as some seem to be clear improvements over the last ones, while other legends have some people questioning their quality. https://www.reddit.com/r/apexlegends/comments/c8c7f1/these_new_profile_designs/“Is it me or they look… shitty?” user ‘taurusmo’ said. The larger legends in the game like Caustic and Gibraltar are proving to be especially jarring for some people, as it looks like the devs were trying to highlight some of their features, but some players might not be so thrilled with the change. Regardless, if Respawn don’t think it’s worth their time to change up the icons, it should take a matter of weeks for the playerbase to get used to the new designs. What’s new in Apex Legends Season 2? While the character icons aren’t ideal for many, there are still a bunch of content to look forward to, ranging from a brand new legend in Wattson to a decked out Battle Pass that has a crazy amount of unlockable for players. Similarly, the map has also changed in Season 2, which players will want to get familiar with before jumping into King’s Canyon. The devs certainly made a slew of updates as it is, and that’s not to mention the buffs and nerfs to various weapons that should bring some balance to the Apex Legends arsenal. Battle Charge has given Apex Legends a surge of improvements to entice players to fill up the servers once again, but those character icons might take them a bit to get used to.

Apex Legends players are using death boxes to fly around – Dexerto
Apex Legends players are using death boxes to fly around Respawn/EAApex Legends players have encountered a really strange bug that is letting them fly around on death boxes as if they have finally found a vehicle for the battle royale. With Kings Canyon and World’s Edge being two sprawling landscapes, Apex Legends players have different ways to get around. You have jump towers, the World’s Edge train, and different legend abilities. Outside of the train, Respawn’s battle royale doesn’t have vehicles like say Fortnite or Warzone. However, a strange bug is giving players a magic carpet-like ride across the map just as long as they jump on top of a death box. The bizarre issue was pointed out by Reddit user WispyWi, who showed that during a recent trios game, they and their teammates all managed to ride atop of a death box. Now, there wasn’t anything different about the death box – and it certainly didn’t have an engine or rocket boosters attached. Instead, the trio of players just floated around Sorting Factory at a relatively slow pace at the same height – passing by buildings and other spots. In the end, the Redditor noted that they eventually jumped off and the box phased through walls on its trip. However, this doesn’t appear to be a one-off. A few players added that they’ve witnessed boxes flying around Sorting Factory in the same manner – but they weren’t able to hitch a ride like WispyWi. Others pointed out that the flying death boxes are likely a result of somebody dying on the conveyor belts inside of the factory, with the box managing to glitch out as a result. While it might look like a fun problem to have in-game, players could very well exploit these flying boxes and give themselves an advantage in matches. As of writing, the glitch hasn’t been picked up on Respawn’s Trello board so it remains to be seen if they are aware of it happening.

Apex Legends players are upset with new event taking place of Trios – Dexerto
Apex Legends players are upset with new event taking place of Trios EAThe newest limited-time event for Apex Legends has replaced the game’s base Trios mode, and fans are not happy about it. Every so often, a game will release a limited-time mode to get players to come back and play, usually offering some sort of special reward for playing. Just recently, Apex Legends introduced a new Final Fantasy event for a short period of time and it has replaced the game’s typical Trios mode. Players, however, are not happy about this and want the devs to add Trios back into the mix. Apex Legends fans are unhappy the new event replaced Trios The frustrations of the community were shared in a post on Apex Legends’ subreddit, titled: “Kinda wish the new event didn’t take the place of normal trios.” In the post, the player explains, “It kinda blows that my friends and I can’t play trios for the next few weeks without the gimmick stuff in it.” The Redditor mentions that they wish Respawn had made a separate playlist for the FInal Fantasy event, similar to other limited-time modes in the past. Some comments explained that Respawn tends to only create a separate playlist for specific situations: “If its similar enough, then they would make pubs into the ltm. If its too different… then itll have a separate one.” Other players are also disappointed in the inability to play the usual game mode, with one user saying, “Same. It sucks that its not a seperate mode. I enjoy playing regular battle royale, now its just ppl running with swords…” This isn’t to say that others aren’t okay with it, though, as one player responded: “I don’t really have a problem with it. All the goofy gimmicks are nice change of pace.” Another user pointed out that people wouldn’t play the new mode if it had its own playlist, so Respawn had to put it into the main rotation. Fortunately, detractors of the new mode won’t have to wait too long for things to go back to normal as the Final Fantasy ends on January 30th.

Apex Legends players are still begging Respawn to add final killcam – Dexerto
Apex Legends players are still begging Respawn to add final killcam Respawn Entertainment / ActivisionApex Legends players have been begging Respawn Entertainment for over 6 months for a simple feature. Fast forward and they’re still calling for the devs to add a final killcam to the battle royale. Apex Legends has brought several new features to the battle royale scene such as character-specific abilities, the respawn system, and more. But it lacks something that most FPS games have: a killcam. While you won’t find a killcam in every battle royale game, it isn’t unheard of. Warzone and PUBG both have the feature, but Apex doesn’t. A report back on May 25 noted a dev stating they don’t plan to add it, but that hasn’t stopped players from petitioning to change that. Apex Legends players demand devs to add killcam Respawn Entertainment have said that adding a killcam would give teams a competitive advantage despite being a person down. Meaning players could relay information to their teammates about the location and weaponry of enemies. However, this Reddit post by ‘Kaythiest’ has a thread full of Apex gamers that want this “basic feature” added. One Redditor suggested copying the system that PUBG uses with its killcam. “I assumed it would be like PUBG where you can’t watch until your team is all dead.” This would prevent a death leading toward an unfair advantage for a team. While players brainstormed ideas to have a good system, others were quick to point out how Respawn said a huge reason they haven’t added it was due to server stress. One person said, “The potatoes can only do so much,” referring that the servers already can barely handle the game. Another one added, “I would love it so much, but I’m too afraid that it would f**k up the servers even more.” Players are certain that if server issues are the main issue holding Respawn back from adding this, then there is still light at the end of the tunnel. However, it seems the devs have put their foot down on this topic so the Apex Legends community has to remain hopeful that there is a change of heart.

Apex Legends players are still asking for simple inventory overhaul – Dexerto
Apex Legends players are still asking for simple inventory overhaul Respawn/EAApex Legends players are still eager to see Respawn Entertainment make a pretty big shift with the inventory system, as they want to start with backpacks. While the abilities and different legend compositions play a key part in picking up a win in Apex Legends, you still need the luck to go your way when it comes to looting. If you get off to a poor start with the loot, you’ll more than likely be heading back to the main menu to start things all over again. As a result, players have regularly pleaded with Respawn Entertainment to make some changes to the starter kits that you drop in with. Many players want to see helmets and backpacks follow the Evo-Shield method of leveling up as you do damage, while plenty of others just want to be able to drop in with a backpack rather than needing to find one. Adding a backpack to the starter kit has been a regular bone of contention for some players as they’ve constantly complained about being unable to find even the lowest level backpacks. As a result, Redditor Johnny_Tapia once again urged Respawn to make the switch. “Quite often you see 1-6 white backpacks in one small area. Sometimes 2 in one bin, sometimes – one in each bin around you and that’s pretty bad,” they said. “On the other hand – sometimes you land and look for a backpack for 5 minutes, like wth?” Plenty of players threw their weight behind the calls too, though, some stated Respawn should just buff the number of items you carry without a backpack. “Just get rid of bags and increase base inventory,” said one. “White bags and all that should get removed to free up the loot pool a bit,” added another. Naturally, some players disagreed with the calls for change, suggesting that things are fine as they are. Though, some did join the calls to shake up the loot pool a bit. As it’s a popular request, it’s something that Respawn have likely considered, but who knows if they’ll ever make the change. It would be a pretty big one after all.

Apex Legends players are split on Mixtape playlist’s leave penalty – Dexerto
Apex Legends players are split on Mixtape playlist’s leave penalty RespawnApex Legends players have started calling on Respawn to reverse the leave penalty change added to the Mixtape playlist, while others want it to stay. Apex Legends first introduced its Mixtape playlist on February 6, 2023, which consists of a rotating list of various LTMs introduced over the history of the battle royale. Unfortunately, the playlist was fraught with players constantly leaving matches, which often left many lopsided teams and an overall unenjoyable experience. As such, developer Respawn swiftly introduced a leave penalty to Mixtape, similar to the one that existed during Control’s LTM period. Now fans are calling for the decision to be changed, as they claim the leave penalty punishes players who are put on teams with unhelpful teammates. However, some think the change is doing more good than harm. Apex Legends players split on Mixtape leave penalty A post on the Apex Legends subreddit gained traction among the community after one player stated their frustration at the steep leave penalty for quitting Mixtape games early. “Can’t Leave, Can’t Play. One teammate who’s XP Farming. One never joined. Can’t leave else banned for 10 minutes. 🙂 So much fun,” they titled the post. Naturally, the community was fairly split on the issue, with some siding with the OP’s point of view. “Game modes now have penalties? Man, pubs still don’t have penalties, and people can leave the moment they are knocked, LOL.” Others agreed but noted there need to be changes made to the leave penalty to make it more useful to players. “This is annoying, but what’s more annoying is not being able to leave when there is massive server lag. Like I can still play if we are missing a teammate, but when I’m getting desyncs and rubber-banding, it’s literally unplayable, and I shouldn’t be forced to stay.” Another fan pointed out that players who’ve already had teammates leave should be able to leave games without a penalty, as they are fighting a losing battle. Still, other players wondered why they had even gotten to a 10-minute ban in the first place, as the first offense begins at two minutes. “The penalty is 2 min unless you’re leaving several games in a row. Just play it out or leave.” While some Apex fans may be frustrated with Mixtape’s leave penalties, the fact that Respawn hasn’t altered Mixtape’s leave penalty changes in two months could mean it’s unlikely any further tweaks will be made in the future.

Apex Legends players are so desperate for Olympus return they’re willing to pay – Dexerto
Apex Legends players are so desperate for Olympus return they’re willing to pay Respawn/EAApex Legends players are desperate for Olympus to return to the map rotation, with some offering to pay Respawn to remove World’s Edge sooner rather than later. With the start of Apex Legends Season 11, Respawn introduced Storm Point as the battle royale’s fourth map. As they have done with the arrival of other new maps, the developers put a focus on Storm Point, making it exclusive for a little while before bringing another map into the rotation. That other map is, of course, World’s Edge – which has undergone plenty of changes of its own in recent seasons. However, players have seemingly had enough of it, and want Respawn to shake up the map rotation even further. For many players, the answer is simple: they want to go back to Olympus. “I miss this map so much, it felt so happy and bright,” said SmileyWiley98. “Not sure how everybody else feels about it, but I’m really hoping it makes a comeback.” Their sentiment was shared by plenty of other players who want to see the map above the clouds back in the mix. “I would pay for Olympus and Storm Point to be on rotation for a season so I can say goodbye to the rest of the maps, I would feel complete,” said Redditor Cokaway. “I miss the aesthetics of the map. Such an awesome map,” added another. “Would be nice to have a map again where you’re not just running for miles in silence,” commented one fan. Some players added that they didn’t quite understand why Respawn opted for World’s Edge instead, noting that the lack of Olympus and Kings Canyon has meant that they’ve stopped playing the battle for now. Naturally, some suggestions pointed to Respawn adding of the maps into the mix at once, but that seems unlikely to happen anytime soon. Storm Point is still fresh, so that will hold its place for some time, but if the developers do opt to shake up the map rotation, there is a clear frontrunner with fans for what should return.

Apex Legends players are sick of controller “cheat” ruining the game – Dexerto
Apex Legends players are sick of controller “cheat” ruining the game Apex Legends / Respawn EntertainmentPlayers of Apex Legends have had enough of a controller exploit that some are calling a “cheat” and many are calling for it to be banned. Apex Legends and FPS games in general, have often featured heavy debates within their respective communities surrounding whether they are easier to play on consoles or PCs. With the introduction of crossplay in recent years and the ability for players to use either a controller or a mouse and keyboard for their console or PC, the debate has only gotten hotter. This has been no different for the Battle Royale, whereby the use of a particular controller configuration exploit on PC has left many players of Apex Legends furious, calling it a “cheat.” Apex Legends fans have had enough of controller config exploit One user posted to the Apex Legends subreddit, sharing a direct gameplay comparison for when using the configs to alter the use of his controller and when not using them, with a mouse and keyboard. “To everyone that says roller tap strafe configs are remotely justified or not OP,” they titled the post. The video unleashed a heated debate in the comments, as it is said to combine the “benefits of PC movement with controller aim assist,” in order to gain a perceived competitive advantage. “Who is saying configs are justified? Pretty sure there is a consensus that configs is cheating,” one user said. “It’s not just imitating mouse & keyboard movement, it is strictly better than manual tap strafing. You can lurch in every direction vs. traditional scroll bind which is only one direction,” another user said. “My bud played like this. Best Octane I ever knew. Miss ya bud. I’ve never been able to play lifeline like I did when we ran games. We were unstoppable,” one user shared. Despite various users saying that only “cheaters” use them and that they should be “banned,” one player said: “Respawn does not consider it cheating and has made no attempt to ban anyone who uses them.” It will be interesting if and how Respawn will respond after various players have said it has “ruined” the game.

Apex Legends players are sabotaging teammates to finish Bloodhound Chronicles event – Dexerto
Apex Legends players are sabotaging teammates to finish Bloodhound Chronicles event After dropping into the wrong map, Apex Legends players have been killing their own teammates so they can complete the Bloodhound Chronicles event as quickly as possible. Despite being a battle royale title, Apex Legends is extremely good at story-telling and showcasing the origins of each of the Legends on the roster. Whether it’s through in-game comics, Stories from the Outlands videos, or even mysterious character voice lines, Respawn is always building up and expanding on the game’s lore. Well, hoping to make the storyline and lore of the game more accessible to players, the devs introduced the Bloodhound Chronicles event to the game on September 29. Although the community is enjoying the quest-line and objectives, some players are already ruining matches just to complete the event as quickly as possible. Apex Legends players are ruining matches to complete event While the Bloodhound Chronicles event isn’t particularly difficult to complete, it has a few key requirements. For one, players have to have locked in Bloodhound and be playing on the Worlds Edge map, as this is where the quest-line is based. Unfortunately, as the maps are on rotation, some players are dropping into Kings Canyon or Olympus and forcing themselves off the map as soon as they realize it’s wrong. If they happen to be the Jumpmaster, this can result in the whole squad being killed immediately at the beginning of a match. This is exactly what happened to FacchiniBR when they decided to hop into a Kings Canyon match, with their Bloodhound opting to kill him and the other squad member. It’s clear players are forgetting to check the current map on rotation and immediately eliminating themselves to save some time. However, this is coming at the expense of the other squad members and ruining matches. A simple solution would be to use ‘No-fill’ feature on the menu which stops players from being put with any teammates. This would prevent matches from being sabotaged and allow anyone to complete the quest in peace. While this doesn’t seem to be a widespread issue, it’ll be interesting to see if Respawn shifts their approach to story events in the future with players deliberately taking down their teammates.

Apex Legends players are “Octane jousting” and it’s hilarious – Dexerto
Apex Legends players are “Octane jousting” and it’s hilarious EAApex Legends players have been using the game’s training area, called Firing Range, to create a hilarious, very fun custom game for friends itching to duel: “Octane jousting.” When you hop in Apex Legends’ Firing Range with buddies, you can allow friendly fire, pick your favorite guns, and set up games to play amongst yourselves. The funniest of these customs that we’ve seen is the recently exposed “Octane jousting,” as finally revealed to Reddit by ‘Ardcas’ after spending a long time competing against their friends in private. But now we know how it works and our friendships might never be safe again. The premise of the mode is simple: you and your friend select Octane and grab the same single-shot, high-damage weapon, something like a Longbow, Wingman, or Triple-Take. Then you set up your jump pads a decent distance from one another and take turns jumping off those jump pads toward each other while trying to land a shot. It looks chaotic, difficult, and, most importantly, pretty silly. If you’re sweating over these jousting duels, you’re probably doing it wrong. But that doesn’t mean it’s not an effective way to work on some skills while having fun. For a game as fast-paced as Apex Legends, reaction times and adjustments to mobility are crucial talents. When bouncing off of a jump pad with a single-fire weapon, you’re moving quickly and haphazardly with only a couple seconds to land shots on a similarly hard-to-hit target. While it’s an older video (as you can tell from the sniper ammo), this is the first time Ardcas has shared it since they’re new to the Reddit community. According to the creator, players should also use gold knockdown shields and armor for quicker rounds—and that you can switch to Krabers if you want to get a little crazy with it. Still, a Longbow with a relatively close-distance scope seems like the best bet to maximize your ability to ADS and find shots. Quick-scoping with a Kraber is one of the hardest things to do in Apex Legends. With how much of a grind running ranked games can feel like, coming up with creative custom games to play amongst friends makes for a great breather. In other popular games like Overwatch and Fortnite, the custom games lobby and Creative Mode have been incredibly fun ways to let people enjoy the game casually, especially during longer queue times. While Apex isn’t likely to add a full custom games mode just yet, something like this does help take the edge off.

Apex Legends players are loving Conduit’s character selection impersonations – Dexerto
Apex Legends players are loving Conduit’s character selection impersonations Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are loving Conduit’s impersonations during the character selection phase before matches. Season 19 of Apex Legends is in full swing, bringing Legend balancing, updates to POIs on Stormpoint, and a new battle pass to grind through. Aside from the changes, the headline of Ignite is Conduit, the newest Legend to join the fray. While Revenant stole the show in the Ignite launch trailer, Conduit turned a few heads with her lighthearted personality compared to the dark nature of the Apex Games. Not to mention, she’s wildly aware of the “Mozambique here” meme. Now that she’s in the hands of the public, players are discovering how much she enjoys the experience of the Apex Games, especially during the pre-match character selection. Apex Legends fans discovered Conduit impersonates other characters During the pre-match character selection, players have a few seconds to pick their character. Once locked in, the character has a brief monologue before the next player selects their character or until the match starts. Some of the character intros are menacingly fierce, especially if you’re looking at Revenant’s horror-filled briefing. However, Conduit throws all that out the window. Shared to the Apex Legends Reddit, players discovered Conduit has a few unique intros. ScottyT_180 shared their find, and it’s Conduit’s near “flawless” impersonation of Loba. The similarities are almost spot on, as Conduit repeated everything Loba said and did. That said, Conduit’s lighthearted take ended with her nearly on the floor. Fans loved what they saw from Conduit, as commenter replied “I love that conduit is just a really big fan of the apex games and is fan girling the whole time.” However, it doesn’t just stop there. Some players have gotten an alternate version of the introduction, with Conduit taking on the persona of Newcastle. Safe to say, Conduit’s take on the Legends is nearly flawless and a nice change of tone. There’s still a possiblity that more impersonations will arrive, so keep an eye out.

Apex Legends players are losing it over this Finisher change in Season 14 – Dexerto
Apex Legends players are losing it over this Finisher change in Season 14 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Season 14 is making some big changes to the game and some fans are upset at the upcoming loss of an iconic finisher opportunity. Each new season of Apex Legends shakes the game up a little bit from where it was before, but Season 14 is really flipping things over. In a pre-Season 14 press event, Respawn detailed that certain pieces of equipment, such as the Gold Backpack and Gold Knockdown Shield, will be undergoing a serious overhaul. While that might not seem to correlate to finishers on the surface, it actually does take away one of the more opportune times to put the execution animations to work. Apex Legends players upset over loss of game-winning finishers Beginning in Season 14, the gold shield will no longer feature the Self Revive perk. This means when players get knocked, they’ll exclusively have to rely on their squadmates to get back up. This also means that when the other remaining members of a team get knocked, the squad will be insta-eliminated and that a player carrying a Gold Knockdown will no longer be left crawling around until the enemy teams comes to hunt them down. While the pro scene has been calling for the removal of this feature for months now, it seems that other parts of the fanbase are having a tough time coming to terms with it. “Whilst it was annoying to lose to someone sat in an end ring with a self rez I honestly will miss it,” one player said. “The weird and wonderful is what makes this game genre different every time.” Another fan lamented the loss and suggested that this change should have been one exclusively for the competitive players: “Remove it for ranked sure, but why remove it from casual play? It’s supposed to be fun.” It wasn’t all pessimistic though. While everyone else was busy sharing their opinions on whether or not the change was good for the game, there was one person who decided to simply sit back and embrace the spectacle. “The last finisher to win a game in Season 13 will be historic,” they said. There’s no telling if it’ll happen, but if someone does get a clip of hitting the last game-winning finisher that would certainly be an achievement for the record books.

Apex Legends players are giving up on one weapon type as changes needed – Dexerto
Apex Legends players are giving up on one weapon type as changes needed Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans are no longer bothering with one formerly popular weapon type in the battle royale, especially when it comes to Ranked, with some claiming they’ve been nerfed too much. If you’ve ever dropped into a game of Apex Legends, you’re bound to have a favorite weapon or two. Some players are Mozambique fans, others love the Longbow, some gravitate to the Flatline, and others can’t leave the R301 alone. However, whenever weapons get nerfed it can cause some annoyance for players, especially as they have to change their favorite loadouts. That has been the case with the R-99, with some players claiming it is “basically throwing” these days. Though, those annoyances have also extended to the SMG weapon class as a whole – especially if you’re someone who grinds Ranked for hours on end. “Has anybody else just entirely stopped using SMGs in ranked?” asked Redditor PoliteChatter0, showing they’re only using the Flatline and Rampage in-game now. “Yup, I carry an RE with hammerpoints now instead of my old trusty R99,” one answered. “Unless it’s the Volt, I don’t bother. R99 and CAR just empty way too quick, increasing the recoil for these guns only makes it more difficult to mag dump enemies,” said another. “Yeah, most of the classic SMGs aren’t too good anymore. R9 and CAR just don’t hit as hard anymore, but I find the Volt and the RE45 still shred quite well,” another added. Some players added that certain SMGs require bigger magazines to be usable and it can be a challenge to find the right attachments during matches. Once Season 21 comes around, Respawn are likely to make big changes to the current weapon pool, meaning SMGs could be on the rise again. But, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Apex Legends players are getting sick of “most hated” legend in the game – Dexerto
Apex Legends players are getting sick of “most hated” legend in the game Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are growing sick of the game’s “most hated” Legend, Horizon, as she’s “overpowered” again because of her movement abilities. The formula of battle royale games has always been so similar – you drop in, loot up, and try to be the final team or player alive. However, Apex Legends threw another wrinkle into the mix by making you play as characters with pre-set abilities. Naturally, some Legends have been stronger than others at times, and that has prompted Respawn to make a fair amount of changes. That includes a massive amount at the start of Season 20, which has every legend affected by the new upgrade system, and a fair few others given their own individual buffs and nerfs. Horizon saw her Gravity Lift ability changed once again, as the cooldown was increased by five seconds to 25 seconds. However, some players are getting sick of her altogether. Apex Legends players tired of Horizon being ‘OP’ Apex Legends fan RaizTheOne vented their frustrations with the Gravitational Manipulator, uploading a clip of an encounter with her in a recent game. “Most heated legend in Apex for a reason,” the Redditor said, showing the enemy Horizon using the Gravity Lift to jump skyward and pull off some heals after being shot down to pretty low health. “She really is the only character that just does not feel honest. Every other movement ability has some sort of drawback or restriction but she has none. Why can she use healing on her Q still Idk,” another fan said. “Yeah, Horizon is just a crutch for bad players. My duo is a horizon main and he can’t do s*it on other legends,” added another. Other players, who are also tired of Horizon, suggested their own ideas for changes. “She is so overpowered and a total crutch. Literally makes the game easy mode. She should have all shooting and healing disabled while in the Q,” one urged. “They need to make it so she can’t heal or shoot in her gravity lift. It should be a rotation ability only,” another agreed. Seeing as Respawn only recently changed Horizon, it seems unlikely that they’ll make another sweeping change so soon. However, it is something that it worth keeping an eye on.

Apex Legends players are getting penalized for the game’s lag issues – Dexerto
Apex Legends players are getting penalized for the game’s lag issues nearerstephanie via RedditApex Legends players are reportedly getting hit with matchmaking delay penalties that stem from the game’s own connection problems and lag issues. A Reddit post by user ‘nearerstephanie’ indicates that the player got a matchmaking cooldown for about 10 minutes after lagging in a Ranked match just before getting the infamous ‘code:net’ error. The problem has been a recurring issue in the Apex community since the turn of Season 4, and it’s now putting players in a strange situation. Developers Respawn Entertainment have already acknowledged the lag and freezing problems on consoles and said there would be a fix for that soon. In the meantime, regardless of the platform, it seems some players who get hit with the connectivity issues might still accrue a penalty for leaving the game early, even though it was caused by those problems. “After a ton of pub matches that went smoothly I decided to do ranked even though I said I wouldn’t,” nearerstephanie said, showing a screenshot of a nine-minute matchmaking delay. “Boom… it lagged super hard and code:net error me again, came back to this.” The freezes have been a major point of contention with a portion of the community. Even players who don’t typically have issues with their connection to Apex are experiencing these kinds of lags. Ironically, Respawn’s abandoned game penalty is doing its job and punishing players who aren’t finishing the match they started. However, the reason why some of these users are unable to conclude their matches is because of the game itself. One user wrote: “Hey, I got that like 5x in a row. I think I was banned for like 360 minutes.” After getting hit with the delays, there seems to also be an inconsistency of whether or not these connection issues result in a loss of Ranked Points (RP). “At my rank (Gold) it was a time out and -48 [RP],” user ‘OwO_Pinion_8Ted’ said. The loss of RP hasn’t been a consistent issue however, as others earlier revealed they didn’t lose RP even in a game where they were disconnected because of the code:net error. At this time, it’s not clear how the RP loss is being determined in-game. Respawn have said they’re working to investigate and fix this issue, but only time will tell how long it’ll take to implement a solution. For now, those who decide to play ranked have to deal with potentially getting penalized for something that’s not even their fault.

Apex Legends players are furious as hackers abuse empty ranked servers for boosting – Dexerto
Apex Legends players are furious as hackers abuse empty ranked servers for boosting Respawn EntertainmentSome Apex Legends players noticed that hackers are using empty Bahrain servers to boost themselves into Predator lobbies and snipe high-level players, or to hit Pred themselves. Apex Legends has had its fair share of hacking and boosting controversies over the past few seasons, with players doing everything they can think of to try and break into the upper echelon of play – even if they have to resort to ban-worthy means. However, Apex Legends players that cheat and boost often get reported for doing so. Not to mention, boosting can be difficult on a high-population server due to parties trying to snipe each other and getting into separate games. Some Apex Legends players have discovered that Bahrain’s ranked servers are almost empty, and they’ve been using the dead server to boost accounts to Predator without getting banned. Apex Legends hackers use empty ranked servers for boosting Bahrain is a small Middle-Eastern country that’s close to Asia geographically, and a country that has its own server in Apex Legends. However, because of its location, most players close to Bahrain have migrated to other, more populated servers even if their connection may be worse. This has led to most players abandoning the servers entirely, leaving the ranked scene all but dead within the region. People trying to boost their Apex Legends account have used the state of the servers as an exploit to hit Predator, whether they’re boosting for the sake of fast-tracking an account loaded with cheats right into top-level lobbies or to try and get enough RP to get high up in the Predator rankings. The thing about Apex Legends hackers and boosters is that they tend to get banned via reports from other players in the game. However, it’s impossible for them to get banned if there’s no one to put in those reports. When the players who recorded the video got into the lobby, many of the boosters grinding RP on the server would just leave the match. It doesn’t take them that much effort to gain all the RP back. These players can be seen boosting each other’s kill counts into the 30s, gaining literal thousands of RP per match. Avid Apex Legends players are infuriated by the exploit, knowing that they could grind for months toward the coveted Predator title, only to get outdone by someone boosting on an empty ranked server.

Apex Legends players are freaking out over another Kings Canyon tree – Dexerto
Apex Legends players are freaking out over another Kings Canyon tree Respawn EntertainmentBelieve it or not, Apex Legends players are once again freaking out over nothing more than an in-game tree, one that some are swearing just recently appeared out of nowhere ahead of this week’s Season 7 update. Play any battle royale game like Apex for an extended period of time and you’ll come to know the maps pretty well, which is why any changes often immediately stand out when they do happen. This is especially true on King’s Canyon, which has seen changes since the game came out, but has stayed somewhat the same in unchanged parts that survived since then. However, on November 1, a massive debate started on the Apex Legends subreddit over whether or not a single tree, located between Market and Bunker, was recently added to the game, or had been there forever. Of course, as often happens in these kinds of debates, players quickly broke up into two opposing camps: one that is sure the tree just recently appeared, and the other that “just knows” it’s been there from the start. “I’ve seen it many times,” one user assured us. “I’ve used it for cover.” While on the other side of things someone replied with “it definitely was not.” Still, others argued that the tree has always been there, but was updated recently to add more green leaves to it, which makes it stand out and be more noticeable. If you want to check out the random tree in question, you can find it at the buildings located in the valley between the Bunker and Market POIs. Once you examine the tree for yourself, you can join the conversation as well, as we wait for the start of Season 7. Have to pass the time somehow, right? Whether or not the mysterious foliage was always there or if this is a case of it becoming more visible remains unknown, as Respawn doesn’t usually list minor cosmetic changes made to completely random trees scattered around Apex’s maps. Believe it or not, however, this isn’t even the first time debate around Kings Canyon trees has flared up. Back in September, players were split on whether or not to remove one tree, though this was in a completely different spot. Speaking of Apex Legends maps, the new Olympus arena will be arriving along with the start of Season 7, and it’s sure to have a whole forest of trees, bushes, and other shrubberies for players to dissect well into the future too.

Apex Legends players demand better stat tracking from Respawn in next update – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand better stat tracking from Respawn in next update EA/IconFinderApex Legends, Respawn Entertainment’s first person battle royale, is facing increased calls from its player base to implement detailed stat tracking into the game. Since its February 2019 release, Apex Legends has seemingly gone from strength to strength, even hitting 50 million players faster than Fortnite did. However, developers Respawn Entertainment have recently been criticized for the lack of new content in game, as they struggle to keep up with Epic Games’ frequent Fortnite updates. This prompted the head of Respawn, Vince Zampella, to publicly respond, and release a statement stating that they would be devoting all resources to Apex Legends, rather than working on the next Titanfall game. 600But, it’s not all about new content, as players are also hopeful for the implementation of a better stat-tracking system. Many games have ways of viewing and tracking different stats, such as kills with a particular character/item, overall wins, overall K/D etc. For example, ‘Combat Record’ has long been a staple of Call of Duty games, offering detailed statistics and easily accessible in-game. However, at the time of writing, stat tracking in Apex Legends is on a per-character basis, meaning you have to break out the calculator and cycle through multiple menus if you want to find your overall kill count. Now though, players want to see stat tracking become better, more in-depth and easily accessible Back in February, one Reddit user created an incredible stat tracking concept for Apex Legends, including a breakdown of a player’s stats with each weapon, sharing leaderboards with friends, and individual legend stats. The next significant update coming to Apex Legends will likely be the start of Season 2, which has been confirmed as coming in June. However, it remains possible that we will see a big update prior to that, as Respawn try and keep players engaged with frequent updates and new content.

Apex Legends players are already finding inventive ways to use the Jump Pad – Dexerto
Apex Legends players are already finding inventive ways to use the Jump Pad Players can now find Jump Pads in Apex Legends so players are testing some new things out with them. Recently, players have been able to see Jump Pads in Apex Legends which seems to indicate an update is certainly on the horizon. Not only are the Jump Pads visible but they are also usable meaning players can begin testing new things in an effort to pull off insane plays with them. In a short clip uploaded to Reddit by user iWalteur, we can see Wraith’s portal transform the Jump Pad into a combo with Pathfinder’s Zipline. These would be two of the best characters for mobility and when you put them with a Jump Pad it looks like it’ll really open up some options. The clip shows that you keep your momentum as you enter the portal which is why you are able to shoot out of the portal on the other end, despite there being no Jump Pad. If you’re Pathfinder you’d be able to combo that into a Zipline and quickly get out of, or into, a situation. It’s only a matter of time before players use this method to pull off sick no-scopes for the final kill. It’s going to be interesting to see what some of the pro players are able to pull off, such as Dizzy. Nevertheless, it seems like the possibility for trick shots will be greatly increased with Jump Pads.

Apex Legends players are “abusing” small servers for easy Predator rank badge – Dexerto
Apex Legends players are “abusing” small servers for easy Predator rank badge Respawn/EAApex Legends players want Respawn to make some changes to way the servers and Apex Predators work, as some are taking advantage of underpopulated servers. When it comes to proving you’re the best of the best in Apex, there’s only one virtual battleground to do it on – Apex’s Ranked mode. Though it has been criticized has been players over the last few seasons – especially with the way points and ranks are dished out – it is still home to the most competitive players out there. Some players have urged Respawn to take the mode back under the knife and make some further changes, mainly with rewards, but there is another problem brewing. Instead of jumping into their home server, some players are instead using underpopulated servers – mainly Bahrain 2 – to queue up against lower-ranked and skilled players in a bid to farm RP and keep their top-tier ranks. Apex Legends players “abusing” unpopulated servers in Ranked It’s an issue that has been highlighted by Apex YouTuber Garret, who noted that he’s had plenty of DM’s from players who have witnessed Predator taking advantage of this, and playing against Bronzes. As a result, players have urged Respawn to make a change and prevent this practice from propping up some Predator players. “All they need to do is make it so that once you have masters or specifically pred, they begin to limit the servers you can transfer to,” said one. “I hope full cross-play is enabled because solo only cross-play with other console or pc only is also helping abusing matchmaking like this,” added another. “The only fix is to force players on the lowest ping server … then its FIXED,” commented another frustrated fan. Some players noted that the underpopulated server can take hours to find a game, and then even when a game is made, the ping is super high because of players coming from further afield. “Bahrain servers are actually really empty, we need more players to queue for a match faster, but unfortunately no one plays in this server because of that issue,” added another player. It remains to be seen if Respawn will address the issue any time soon, or if it will continue to be a bugbear for fans in the Middle East.

Apex Legends players are absolutely loving Loba’s Season 12 skin – Dexerto
Apex Legends players are absolutely loving Loba’s Season 12 skin Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends Season 12 Defiance update is bringing a new Legendary Loba skin in the upcoming Battle Pass that is already hitting a chord with fans. Respawn Entertainment are going to inject a ton of content into Apex with their upcoming season that’ll cover everything from the new Legend Maggie to a 9v9 limited-time mode called Control. Season 12 will also bring a brand new Battle Pass that will be packed with in-game rewards to unlock, including a new Legendary skin for Loba. Details of the upcoming cosmetic are expected soon, but a brief glimpse of the design got the attention of eager Apex fans. Apex Legends Season 12 Loba skin Apex Legends’ season of Defiance is giving the Translocating Thief a radically new design that’s more fitting for grimey New York City streets from The Warriors. The Season 12 gameplay trailer showed a tatted-up Loba with spiked knuckles who looks like the ring-leader for a biker gang. The skin is brimming with personality and it’s been getting great reception from the community. One fan said: “The most beautiful Loba skin ever. Respawn, y’all did an amazing [job] on this.” People are loving Loba in this new light, with some particularly taken on her hair: “The Loba cut though.” “As a part-time Loba main, this skin has convinced me to get this season’s Battle Pass,” another player said on Reddit. More people were celebrating that a Loba skin of this grade was going to be included in the Battle Pass rather than having to outright buy it in a single purchase or hop to get it in a drop. Respawn will soon launch the complete Apex Legends Season 12 Battle Pass so that players can unlock the new Loba skin for themselves after the Defiance patch update.

Apex Legends players angry with Battle Pass again as it resets stars – Dexerto
Apex Legends players angry with Battle Pass again as it resets stars Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are once again asking Respawn Entertainment to amend the Season 7 Battle Pass, after discovering a frustrating hurdle they have to jump over with level progression. As regulars will know by now, Battle Passes in Apex Legends have been possible to complete in as little as a couple of weeks in the past. To make things a little more difficult, devs decided to introduce a star system in Season 7. Previously, members of the community have been upset with the Battle Star system and how “grindy” it was originally to move from one level to another. Changes have since been implemented, though devs have maintained there will be no revert to the previous system any time soon. But, despite the positive changes, another issue has reared its head after the challenges moved to the second week. Apex Legends Star system reset To rank up the Battle Pass, 10 Battle Stars are needed. These can be obtained by completing a series of challenges in-game, which can shake up the way you play, asking you to use different Legends and adapt play styles. But, it turns out, that any star progress made throughout a week will be reset and subsequently lost, as the new week starts. As highlighted by defyingpotato, if you have nine Battle Stars or lower by the end of a week, despite completing multiple challenges to get to that point, the score resets and you’re right back to square one. As you might expect, people have not let the issue slide – upvoting the post high on the Apex Legends subreddit so developers take note. The comments below the post reflect the frustrations felt by those who are trying to grind through as well. One user said: “Everybody is gonna be p**sed. People were saying the one good thing about the star system is you won’t be at like 50,000/54,000 exp at the end of the week,” while another added: “At least with old system you only needed to do 1/4 the XP for the first level upgrade… now you still have to get the full 10 stars immediately. Literally no reason for it to not carry over.” “This needs to be seen, I was at 8 stars in and that’s all been erased, cool,” Another said. Devs have confirmed a revert will not be happening in Season 7 and that this style of system is here to stay, but it’s unclear whether the stars resetting each week was a deliberate move. We’ll have to wait and see. Respawn are very active on social channels, so it will be just a matter of time before we have an official response to such concerns.

Apex Legends players still angry with Respawn’s response about microtransactions – Dexerto
Apex Legends players still angry with Respawn’s response about microtransactions Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends, made changes to the availability new event cosmetic items in the game’s Iron Crown event after a weeklong backlash from fans, but some players weren’t buying it. Apex’s Iron Crown event began on August 13 with the premier of all the new skins and cosmetics players would be able to collect for a limited time. It didn’t take long however for fans to figure out how much it would cost to unlock all the event items and the Heirloom (over $200), which was the only way to guarantee players would get the item or items they wanted. The same day the event launched, the front page of the Apex Legends subreddit was full of memes and users attacking Respawn and EA for what they saw as an event that only appealed to deep-pocketed players. Why did Respawn’s response upset people? Respawn is owned by EA, so a lot of fans thought the developer’s response to complaints on Friday, August 16 was similar to how EA has handled fan outrage in other titles. Who can forget the infamous “pride and accomplishment” comment (which was the most downvoted in Reddit’s history) from EA to players who were upset about having some characters in Star Wars Battlefront 2 behind a paywall. After the changes to the Iron Crown event were posted in the Apex Legends subreddit, the top comments were soon from people who weren’t buying what devs were selling. “EA does this in EVERY game they release. They did it in Battlefront, Battlefield, FIFA and now Apex,” Reddit user SledgeTheWrestler wrote. “They release a really scummy monetization system in hopes that nobody will notice/care and they can get away with it. When their player base notices and speaks up about it, they change it to something slightly-less-scummy (but still scummy, like charging $20 for a skin you can’t even see) as their “apology.” Other users decided to list full games players could purchase, instead of spending $18 dollars on a skin. One of the most popular suggestions was another Respawn game, Titanfall 2, which is currently cheaper on Origin than one skin for the event. Iron Crown solo mode finally fixed On top of having to fight back against a mountain of Iron Crown’s negative press, Respawn has also had to deal with players teaming up in the event’s so called Solos mode to score easy wins. Fans had been asking for a solo mode since Apex launched, but players who managed to queue up together were exploiting the mode for easy wins. Apex added a way for players to report people who were teaming up in solos on Saturday, August 17 in an effort to fix the problem, so we’ll have to see if it works. Even though the Iron Crown event has had it’s fair share of problems with fans so far, at least Respawn seems to be making the effort to listen to their community as much as they can.

Apex Legends players angry over SBMM “ruining” the game – Dexerto
Apex Legends players angry over SBMM “ruining” the game The Apex Legends community is up in arms over the use of skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) in Respawn’s popular battle royale game, with many claiming it is ruining their experience. SBMM is a controversial topic in a number of games currently, not least in the latest Call of Duty title, Modern Warfare, and in rival battle royale Fortnite. The use of matchmaking algorithms to match players of similar skill levels, play-styles or other, often secretive methods, is generally unpopular with users of multiplayer games, but developers are implementing it nonetheless. In November, Eric Hewitt, Senior Systems Designer at Respawn Entertainment, confirmed that a SBMM system had been in place in Apex Legends since approximately Season 2. This is also when a Ranked Mode was added to the game, and some players have questioned why the skill-based matchmaking system wasn’t left exclusively in ranked, and regular matches left to be purely connection-based. Although Hewitt didn’t go into exact details of how the algorithm works, he said that it benefits up to 90% of the playerbase, but did admit that it might “need some tuning”. SBMM will become the norm for most MP games, as there is indisputable evidence through data that it helps out something like 80-90% of the community with retention for most of those games… which hurts us 10%’ers, I know. Still though, ours might need some tuning potentially — Eric Hewitt / Ghost (@GH057ayame) November 24, 2019 This explanation has done little to quell the anger in the community though. The game’s official subreddit has been flooded with posts complaining about SBMM, with moderators having to create ‘megathreads’ to streamline the discussion. Pro player Ace recently ranted about SBMM too, calling the developers “f**king stupid” suggesting they are trying to ruin their game as fast as they can. What’s wrong with SBMM in Apex Legends? So, what’s the big deal? There are two primary complaints when it comes to SBMM in any video game, and the same applies for Apex Legends. Firstly, higher-skill players (typically those who play the most and are most ‘dedicated’ to game) believe that they suffer the most – essentially being punished for being good at the game. This is because higher-skill players will more often be matched with other high-skill players, meaning every game can become a difficult match if you want to win. Some argue that these players simply want to have easy matches against lesser opponents, but balance is key, and a mix of tough and not-so-tough opponents is probably the ideal scenario. The second complaint with SBMM affects all players, not just those of a higher-skill. If matchmaking is more concerned with matching players based on their skill, or any other gameplay factor, it will almost undoubtedly come at the cost of connection. When connection based matchmaking is given full priority, players are simply matched alongside players close to them, where they will experience the least latency. Connection is still a major factor in Apex Legends’ matchmaking system, but since SBMM has been confirmed, it is not far-fetched to assume it could result in worse connections occasionally. There are other problems with SBMM too, such as ‘reverse boosting’ – where a player will deliberately play badly and accrue terrible stats to trick the game into giving them a worse skill rating. Then, they can abuse this to play against much worse opponents. So far, Respawn have remained fairly tight-lipped over the controversy, and it’s unlikely they ever remove SBMM entirely, although tuning it will certainly be welcomed among the community.

Apex Legends players angry as EA doubles price of Apex Coins in Turkey – Dexerto
Apex Legends players angry as EA doubles price of Apex Coins in Turkey Respawn EntertainmentEA has almost doubled the price of Apex Legends coins in Turkey overnight, making them impossible for some players to afford. While gunplay will always be the most important aspect of Apex Legends, cosmetics are not too far behind as Respawn adds countless new designs with every update. As a result, the community buys a lot of Apex Coins which have a set price in each region. Well, some members of the community realized that coins were significantly cheaper in Turkey, and they began switching regions to buy the currency. While this worked for a long time, EA has responded by almost doubling the price of Apex Coins in the region, making it harder for players from Turkey to afford skins and cosmetics. EA raises Apex Legends coin prices in Turkey As showcased by Apex Legends content creator KralRindo, EA decided to almost double the price of Apex Coins overnight in Turkey. This appears to be an action taken against players who are not from Turkey, region swapping to the country so they can obtain cheaper Apex Coins. Unfortunately, this has now negatively impacted countless Turkish players, with some of them revealing they can no longer afford to buy the currency. “Not gonna be able to buy skins anymore Sadge,” wrote one disappointed player, with another calling for EA to “just block it at this point, what’s the point, It was semi-affordable before… Now it’s just absurd”. It’s clear a lot of the Turkish community is frustrated they’ve been punished for the actions of players from other regions. Taking into account the average wage difference between the US and Turkey, this price hike will mean a lot of players will no longer be able to afford the currency, unless EA finds a different solution in the future.

Apex Legends players angered as Legend Edition skins are resold in the store – Dexerto
Apex Legends players angered as Legend Edition skins are resold in the store Respawn EntertainmentRespawn scrapped the official Legend dedicated versions of Apex Legends earlier this year – advertising the “last chance” to buy them – but it turns out the old skins are now being resold in the store, much to players’ dismay. Once upon a time, Apex Legends players could purchase Legend-specific versions of the game. These included special skins for the Legend in question, as well as weapon cosmetics and a banner themed around the character’s new look. Coming into Season 12, Respawn chose to remove these editions from the store despite only releasing the highly coveted Loba edition back in November, 2021. Despite many believing that their prized skins would be etched into the annals of history as limited edition ones, the 1.90 update has added Lifeline‘s Guardian Angel skin to the store pool, signaling that the old Legend Edition skins will be available for purchase once more, much to the ire of the game’s community. Apex Legend edition skins return to the store Despite having removed the Legend editions coming into Season 12, Respawn have elected to offer the skins from the bundles in the in-game store for 1,800 Apex Coins (around $20). Legend Editions also used to be on sale for $19.99, but included Apex Coins, banners, icons, charms, and other in-game goodies within that price. Now, you only get the skin itself, a gun skin, and five Apex Packs. Read More: 10 best Seer skins in Apex Legends – “Take away Legend Editions just to resell them at a marked up price,” writes one player on the game’s official subreddit, concluding “we love you Respawn.” Another commented, “they need to come up with efficient ways to give EA more money,” with a final response noting “the monetization system is way too predatory.” Anger has spilled onto Twitter, too. “If they didn’t say that [the skins] would be gone forever it’s okay. But baiting us to buy the editions because it’s literally the last call to get them while it’s not is not okay.” If they didnt say that they will be gone forever its okay. But baiting us to buy the editions because its literally the last call to get them while its not is not okay — zilke (@zilke_YouTube) March 2, 2022 “People spent money on those and more people spent money on those because they thought they were going away forever,” echoes another. Definitely 👎, people spent money on those and more people spent money on those because they thought they were going away forever — HeadchefKlone (@headchefclone) March 2, 2022 Currently, only the Lifeline Edition skin has made a return, but it’s expected that the others will be available in the store at some point too. One idea which could be floated in Apex is from League of Legends, where a new system was added that creates alternative versions of classic skins, which new players can buy, while keeping the ‘OG’ versions exclusive to the players that bought them.

Apex Legends players angered by Holo-Day Bash skin bundles – Dexerto
Apex Legends players angered by Holo-Day Bash skin bundles Respawn EntertainmentThe Holo-Day Bash event is back in Apex Legends for 2020, running through the whole of December, and has brought back the fan-favorite LTM, Winter Express. Although players are loving the mode, there has also been some controversy over the cosmetic bundles added to the store. As with each new event in Apex Legends, a handful of both new and returning cosmetics are back, available to purchase as bundles in the in-game store. Although there are new skins for Legends like Loba and Revenant, and some incredible new weapon skins, there is some disagreement with how the bundles have been put together. Certain weapon skins are clearly aligned with specific Legend skins, and were shown off together in the Holo-Day Bash trailer. But, these weapon and Legend skins have conspicuously been split up – appearing to force players into buying two bundles if they want the matching skins. This was first highlighted on Twitter and Reddit, with posts going viral about the seemingly deliberate move to mix up the weapon and Legend skins. For example, if a player wants to have both Loba’s Legendary skin and match it with the legendary Spitfire skin in the same style, they will need to buy two bundles – while the Crypto skin matches with the P2020 skin in Loba’s bundle. “I was willing to pay the 25 bucks for the Loba skin WITH her gun. I’m not gonna break my wallet trying to buy both,” one player commented on Reddit. Other players called the bundles “anti-consumer.” “It’s bullsh*t for people who bought the collection event last year, too,” another player said. “The new weapon skins are paired with old legend skins, and new legend skins are paired with old weapon skins.” If anyone’s confused, those weapon skins are clearly matched with Legend skins, but are conveniently in different bundles. Holo-Day Bash event is great, but we feel this is wrong. The trailer even showed off the Legends with their matching weapon skins: pic.twitter.com/9UDoa3WQu5 — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) December 1, 2020 Season 7 has already had a couple of other monetization-related issues in Apex Legends. The most notable was due to a change to the battle pass system, which made it harder to level up at the same rate as past Seasons. Players accused the developers of doing this to encourage more people to buy levels. Then, there was another issue after the price of the Legendary Hunt skin bundle was increased from 6,000 Apex coins to 7,300 without warning. However, Respawn later clarified that this was a mistake, and would refund the difference to anyone who had paid the higher price. It’s unlikely the arrangement of these bundles are a mistake however, or will be changed. But, feedback from players may make the developers consider their bundle arrangements more carefully for future events.

Apex Legends players already want Rampart’s turret buffed in Season 6 – Dexerto
Apex Legends players already want Rampart’s turret buffed in Season 6 Respawn EntertainmentDespite Rampart only arriving in Apex Legends Season 6, many players are already calling for her emplaced minigun, Sheila, to be re-worked or strengthened. When Rampart was announced prior to the launch of Season 6, some fans expressed reservations about her Ultimate Ability, the Emplaced Minigun a.k.a Sheila. The idea of a turret, many argued, would encourage negative play-styles and be incredibly difficult to balance. Despite the fact that both her Tactical and Passive abilities – Amped Cover and Modded Loader – are geared towards strengthening her hand when using Sheila, some believe that the minigun is far too cumbersome and weak to truly influence the game’s meta. With Season 6 now well underway, the dust has had time to settle on Sheila, and verdicts are not particularly positive. Rampart’s vulnerability while using the minigun, in particular, has been singled out for criticism. She is more or less a sitting duck to any enemy not coming under fire. One player composed a list of their positives and negatives with Rampart, and the negatives by far outnumber the positives. Among other things, they highlighted the recoil and lack of mobility as big issues with Sheila, as well as how easy it is to locate enemies using the minigun. Another player suggested that Rampart needs a “complete redesign”, proposing a few ways in which Respawn could strengthen her moving forward. “Add a shield to her turret,” they said, “or make her turret moveable, or give her turret more health. But, honestly, I think Rampart is flawed at the fundamental level, and it doesn’t matter how many changes you make to her kit, she needs a complete overhaul of both her Passive, Active and Ultimate.” Some players responded that it is too soon to suggest a rework of a Legend only added this season, but pick rates do indicate just how unpopular Rampart has become, in a seriously short space of time. We’ll have to wait and see how Respawn decide to play this one.

Apex Legends players all want same thing after Mobile game shutdown – Dexerto
Apex Legends players all want same thing after Mobile game shutdown EAApex Legends Mobile is shutting down in May 2023 and Apex Legends players are all saying the same thing after the news broke. The popular battle-royale game Apex Legends only came over to mobile in 2022, making the decision to cut it a surprising one for members of the community. Reaching the mobile gaming community has allowed the game to grow even more and further deepen the desire for fans to see the game succeed. Though, many have been left disappointed by the news, with a consensus forming about what needs to happen next. Apex Legends Mobile shut down indefinitely In a development update by EA – posted on January 31 – Respawn announced their call to stop all support on the mobile version of Apex Legends. Part of their reasoning from the statement goes as follows: “Following a strong start, the content pipeline for Apex Legends Mobile has begun to fall short of that bar for quality, quantity, and cadence. It is for this reason, after months of working with our development partner, that we have made the mutual decision to sunset our mobile game.” One of Dexerto network’s social media pages, AlphaIntel, posted the news soon after the statement was released. Much of the Apex Legends fanbase seems to be in agreement about one thing… The mobile-exclusive Legends shouldn’t go down with the ship. Those are, of course, Fade and Rhapsody. One reply said: “Hoping Fade and Rhapsody gets added to the main game… they took everyone’s money and dipped LMAOOOO.” “RIP Fade and Rhapsody,” a second user replied. “I want Rhapsody in the main game. We need another healer!” I want Rhap in the main game, we need another healer. — B4S_Burner (Bark) (@b4s_burner) January 31, 2023 Hope they bring them to PC fade was my favorite — 𝐊𝐚𝐳𝐮𝐦𝐚 𝐊𝐢𝐫𝐲𝐮桐生一馬🐉🇵🇷 (@DragonOfDojima_) January 31, 2023 “Hope they bring them to PC. Fade was my favorite!” Further in the statement by EA, they confirm that there will be no refunds given for any purchases made in Apex Mobile. All currencies players have within the game can still be spent before the final date of the game. For all fans of Apex Legends Mobile, it is quite unfortunate that things have turned down this path. Whether or not the mobile-exclusive Legends will come across to the main game, though, remains to be seen.

Apex Legends player wins Apex Pack lottery with double Heirloom packs – Dexerto
Apex Legends player wins Apex Pack lottery with double Heirloom packs Respawn EntertainmentHeirlooms are an incredibly rare pull in Apex Legends. It’s common for even dedicated players to spend months chasing these items but one player got away with highway robbery with their most recent pack opening. In many ways, heirlooms are viewed as a medal of honor in the Apex Legends community. The low drop rate for these extraordinary items means that only the most extreme players ever end up collecting even a single one of the game’s 11 unique, custom-made offerings. These character-specific items have no effect on a player’s gameplay but they serve as a beautiful cosmetic addition to any Legend. That’s why players are freaking out after watching one lucky Legend hit the absolute jackpot when opening a few stray Apex packs over on Reddit. Apex Legends player hits the jackpot with heirloom packs In the intro, Moja shows some impressive luck already in the form of the Necro Nightmare skin for Revenant. This skin was one of the Legendaries from this year’s Monsters Within event and is a good grab on its own. Things immediately escalate however after he opens the next pack and receives a set of heirloom shards. The chances of getting two high-rarity rewards in a row are tough enough, but it doesn’t stop there – after opening another pack, he’s greeted with the second heirloom in a row. The rest of the community was in disbelief, with one user commenting: “You’ve successfully used up all your luck in this life.” Another commenter added: “Congratulations bro! I hope you stub both your pinky toes going up a flight of stairs.” Even Respawn’s own Emre Ruhi got in on the fun saying: “cool now I’m freakin jealous and I’ve had all the ‘looms since wombs.” It’s unclear whether this was a wild stroke of luck or some kind of glitch but the dev team clearly isn’t bothered by the occurrence. The player, on the other hand, might as well have won the lottery.

Apex Legends player who was accused of hacking is invited to play in ALGS – Dexerto
Apex Legends player who was accused of hacking is invited to play in ALGS Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends streamer accused of cheating has been invited by EA to play in Pro League 3 – sparking controversy within the competitive community. Brazilian Apex Legends streamer FeuFPS has garnered a controversial reputation in the community after being accused of cheating in the ALGS Pro League. The accusations first appeared back in February of 2022, when fellow pro player Stalizy shared a series of suspicious clips that indicated FeuFPS might have been hacking. As expected, the drama didn’t end there, with even more clips surfacing in March and this time, accusations of wall-hacking. Feu’s account was banned, but only for a single day, before being reinstated. EA has taken no action against FeuFPS since, and has invited him to play in the upcoming Pro League 3. This news has not been well received by a lot of Apex players, who argue that due to hacking allegations against this player, they should not have been invited to compete at the top level. Despite this, although a lot of FeuFPS’s clips have been labeled as suspicious by multiple pros, that clearly hasn’t been sufficient evidence for Respawn to take action. It is not known whether developers have investigated the player and made a determination about potential cheats. Regardless, many pros and competitive players disagree with EA’s decision to invite FeuFPS to pro league. However, for the time being, it appears that Respawn decision has concluded that FeuFPS should be allowed to compete in the ALGS.

Apex Legends player creatively uses Mirage’s finisher to win game – Dexerto
Apex Legends player creatively uses Mirage’s finisher to win game In one of the most creative Apex Legends finishes to date, this Mirage player completely bamboozled their opponent to get the victory. Mirage is a Legend known for his amusing and distracting antics. From sending out holograms to going invisible, the creative character is all about utilizing visual trickery to gain the upper hand in combat. While many experienced players recently highlighted how Mirage is the Legend most desperately in need of a buff, there’s no denying that his abilities can often mislead even the most seasoned veterans in amusing ways. Demonstrated throughout a December 1 matchup, Reddit user ‘iluvmonkeys581’ hilariously showcased how it’s not just Mirage’s abilities than can lead opponents astray, but also his finishing animations. After racking up eight eliminations, two squads remained and the daring player figured that the timing was perfect for a melee finisher. Having downed a nearby Gibraltar, they went in to seal the deal. Activating the Mirage animation wherein, a hologram spawned to confuse the downed opponent, a nearby enemy also happened to be caught in the confusion. Read more: When does Apex Legends Season 4 start? – Focusing their fire on the wrong target, the final remaining player ultimately threw an easy elimination out the window and cost themselves the entire match in embarrassing fashion. Referred to as the ‘Pound It, Bro’ finisher, this amusing animation hones in on one version of Mirage before a second figure blindsides the downed opponent. The hologram then bumps fists with real-world Mirage before fizzling out. Firing at the illusionary version of the character, the final remaining player was caught completely by surprise and subsequently left themselves exposed to a hail of bullets from the authentic Mirage. “I’ve seen so many people get bamboozled by that finisher,” Reddit user BoauNerr responded. “I know what my next legendary purchase with crafting materials is gonna be.” Undeniably one of the most amusing conclusions to an Apex Legends match, there’s arguably no more embarrassing way to lose than to unload an entire clip into the wrong target. Despite the evident power of his hilarious animations, Mirage remains one of the least-picked characters in the popular battle royale title. Could he be the next Legend in line for a major overhaul?

Apex Legends player uses Caustic trap bug to secure epic win – Dexerto
Apex Legends player uses Caustic trap bug to secure epic win An Apex Legends player used one of the game’s latest bugs to their advantage when they sent a Caustic Nox Gas Trap flying across the ground at an opponent to secure an epic, and extremely unlikely, victory. As with most games, players who jump onto Apex Legends can be greeted by bugs, and one such issue is currently affecting Caustic’s Nox Gas Trap. When thrown on the ground, the traps seem to have a mind of their own, uprooting from their position and flying across the ground, often ending up crazy distances away from where the Caustic had initially intended them to be. While this could certainly be frustrating if you had a specific use for them in mind, one Apex Legends player showed some remarkable quick thinking, using the glitch to his advantage to pull off an insane victory in a match that seemed to be decisively lost. Just one opposing squad was remaining, and with nobody on their team to help them, Reddit user Crixux found themselves in a 1v1 situation, taking damage from their opponent. With some quick reactions, Crixux threw down his Nox Trap, before getting knocked by his opponent as he tried to revive himself for a final confrontation. Incredibly, his hastily-placed trap suddenly started to zoom towards his weakened opponent, dealing just enough damage to knock him down instead, and secure the win. Of course, this glitch is more frustrating than it is useful, especially if you were using the gas to protect you or cover an entrance, and suddenly it goes zooming away leaving you alone as it zooms across World’s End. In certain scenarios, though, it clearly works to players’ advantages, as Crixux found out. As for a fix, Respawn Entertainment have yet to address the issue publicly, but fans will be hopeful of a resolution in the game’s next major update.

Apex Legends player unveils perfect Revenant rework as pick rate plummets – Dexerto
Apex Legends player unveils perfect Revenant rework as pick rate plummets Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have outlined the perfect rework that would put Revenant back in the meta again for Season 16. The Apex Legends community has been calling on the devs for a long-overdue Revenant rework for a while now. The Legend’s popularity has continued to plumment in Season 15, with Revenant currently sitting with an underwhelming 2.1% pick rate. Meanwhile, the Respawn devs have remained tight-lipped on what’s to come for the Legend. However, players are once more suggesting changes, with one fan outlining their perfect rework that they think would put the Legend back in the meta. Apex Legends fan proposes perfect Revenant rework In a February 11 Reddit thread, Revenant main ‘garmack’ outlined a rework for the struggling Legend. The player first noted that Revenant’s ultimate ability Death Totem is impossible to balance, adding that the ability has to be countered in some way. The Revenant main explained that the Totem itself is the issue, where it was proposed that instead of activating his ultimate through the Totem, you would simply activate it on the spot like a Bloodhound ultimate. Furthermore, the player added that the ultimate feels “unrewarding,” and suggested making it a solo ability rather than a team ability — noting that adding a 30% speed boost would help Revenant close gaps. Finally, the player suggested that Revenant receives the fortified passive, which would give the Legend “breathing room” when he splits off from his team and allow him to tank a bit of extra damage. Many believe these changes are exactly what Revenant needs in order to thrive in the role of a strong flanker and infiltrator. While some were concerned about how the changes would impact the Legend as a team player, the Revenant main explained how the new class and perk system being released in Season 16 still allows the Legend to contribute to his team.

Apex Legends player uncovers rare armor swap tech while on a zipline – Dexerto
Apex Legends player uncovers rare armor swap tech while on a zipline Respawn EntertainmentFinding themselves in a pickle, one Apex Legends player manages to defy all odds with a nice play by armor swapping while riding a zipline. The Apex Legends player base is constantly finding new ways to get an edge on the competition, such as optimizing pathing, loadouts, and ability usage. However, when push comes to shove, gunplay outweighs all a character’s abilities. Apex Legends has an armor system that can decide the outcome of a gunfight. A key skill to have is mastering the “armor swap,” swapping armor sets in the heat of battle. When their back was against the wall, one player found a rather sneaky interaction that saved their life, while extending their team’s as well. Rare armor swap saves Apex Legends player’s life Usually players cannot perform armor swaps when riding a zipline. Somehow, one Apex Legends player made it happen. Facing incredible odds and their duo downed, the player rushes in to help. It soon turns into a 1v3, and a nifty Horizon Grav Lift thrusts the player up onto the high ground. After eliminating two foes, the player drops down for a purple deathbox. Opening it and trying to swap armor sets, they accidentally ascend the zipline. However, the armor swap still registers, leaving the player and foe stunned as the purple armor set proves too much for the opposition to overcome. Many Apex Legends players in the comments relished how smooth this rare interaction looked. “Yeah there’s a certain range where you can do some normal stuff in the menu of the deathbox,” explained one Reddit user, seemingly indicating that this is not an exploit but a simple lucky interaction. While it isn’t certain how frequent this can be pulled off, players are certainly bound to give it a whirl. Just don’t spend too much time focusing on it and because it’s more likely to get you killed with how rare it is. Apex Legends is currently in Season 18, with Season 19 on the horizon.

Apex Legends player pretends to be a MRVN for a 1000 IQ play – Dexerto
Apex Legends player pretends to be a MRVN for a 1000 IQ play Respawn EntertainmentOne Apex Legends player’s role-playing adventure as one of MRVN NPC’s found on the map actually worked out quite well for them and could be a sneaky strategy to watch out for going forward. Look, sometimes MVRN’s aren’t even worth your time to loot. They don’t really drop a lot unless you can attach one of their arms. However, that makes them prime bait material — because who knew Pathfinder could become Mirage? Reddit user ‘warartic’ has showed off the ingenious decoy mechanic using the MVRNs scattered around the map to pull a fast one on an opponent, and all it took was a clever name and choosing Pathfinder as their legend. In the clip, the player, named “I’m MVRN” stands completely still with Pathfinder as enemies battle it out around them, and somehow none of the other players seem to suspect a thing. Inside the final circle, most players amazingly don’t even give the imposter a second look. There is one Bloodhound who’s so close to getting it, and starts shooting them, but doesn’t do enough to finish them off. Apparently, they were satisfied that the lack of any reaction made what they were shooting an NPC. The battle unfolds around the disguised player for over a minute until they finally decide to spring their trap at the perfect moment. With just one other squad left, they break character and go to eliminate the enemy Bangalore getting up her teammate, sealing the victory in one of the most hilarious and ridiculous ways we’ve seen lately. Thankfully, it’s easy to tell whether or not it’s an actual MVRN or just a sneaky player trying to pull a fast one. First off, upon closer inspection Path is much more streamlined and rounded compared to the NPC versions, who will also have a green, glowing light on their face. Non-player MVRN’s will also just be called “MVRN” on their nametag, nothing else, and react to you when you find them, some are also lootable as well. If you just see a suspicious-looking robot standing completely still in the corner of a room, go ahead and light it up, just to be safe. You certainly don’t want to be the one caught by this strategy, which is apparently effective enough to score wins all on its own. So, take an extra second and make sure any MVRN actually isn’t a player in disguise, and you should be safe from an embarrassing elimination like this.

Apex Legends player traps entire enemy squad with care packages – Dexerto
Apex Legends player traps entire enemy squad with care packages RESPAWN ENTERTAINMENTOne Apex Legends player has given new meaning to “special delivery,” effectively trapping an entire enemy team with Lifeline’s Care Packages. As any Apex Legends enthusiast would know, Care Packages are meant for strategic aid, not necessarily as tools of confinement. But, in the right hands, anything can become an unexpected weapon. A thread making waves on the Apex Legends subreddit saw a player ingeniously lure an enemy squad into a building, only to promptly box them in using Lifeline’s aerial Care Packages. The accompanying video clip reveals a player ensuring the entire squad is securely inside the structure before making the call. With exits barricaded by Care Packages, the enemy squad is left to scramble, leading to a hilarious scene inside. When the Lifeline player is downed, the viewer’s perspective switches to the enemy’s point of view. The trapped squad is seen panicking, especially when it becomes clear that they’re trapped with the encroaching ring’s doom looming. Almost four minutes of desperation pass before the enemies eventually succumb to the inevitable. One Reddit user joked, “Who would have thought that free packages delivered to the doorstep was deadly.” Another pointed out, “Valk and Path actively trying to get out while Caustic is just hotboxing.” Apex Legends Season 18, titled ‘Resurrection,’ is already making waves in the game’s meta. Notably, the Charge Rifle received a major rework, turning it into a projectile-based weapon. Disruptor Rounds are also now available for the Alternator and, for the first time, the Peacekeeper. This season also gave Revenant a fresh face with a series of revamped abilities. Now dubbed ‘Revenant Reborn,‘ the character can detect low-health enemies, make leaps to close in on foes, and erect a defensive shadow barrier. This is all part of Respawn’s efforts to reintroduce Revenant in a manner more aligned with the current game meta. Check out our Apex Legends page for all the latest news.

Apex Legends player tears up lobby using a single JoyCon controller – Dexerto
Apex Legends player tears up lobby using a single JoyCon controller Respawn Entertainment / NintendoAn Apex Legends player destroyed an entire lobby after using an input remapper to play the game with a single JoyCon controller. As many fans know, Apex Legends is one of the most technical battle royale games out there, thanks to factors like advanced movement techniques and the game’s physics system. While many prefer to play on mouse and keyboard, many high-level players have performed very well using standard controllers. Now, one player may have taken this to the extreme after they shared a clip of themselves destroying a lobby using only a single JoyCon controller. Apex Legends player shows off skills using single Joycon A Reddit user named TeratornPH shared their clip on the Apex Legends subreddit. The video in question is a 50-second portion of the end of the match, where you can see their controller inputs on screen. However, instead of using a mouse and keyboard or a standard gamepad, they’re instead using a single JoyCon controller with Gyro aiming turned on. While using the tiny controller and performing well in Apex is already quite the accomplishment, the clip ends with them becoming the Kill Leader and winning the game for their squad. Many Apex players were left stunned by the impressive display. “As a Switch player and a fellow Mirage enjoyed… What the f***?” Others noted that the poor ergonomics of the JoyCon must have been quite painful for playing Apex. The OP confirmed, “It was painful to hold for the first few months, but I got better at it afterwards.” For those wondering how this player pulled off the inputs, they used an input remapper called JoyShockRemapper to bind mouse and keyboard inputs to the JoyCon. “The reason for that is because gyro aim works best as a mouse, and using both mouse and controller simultaneously…would only cause huge pixel skipping whenever you move the controller to aim. I had to bind the entire controller to kb&m actions to prevent this, even the left stick as 8-way WASD.” While many pro players have explained their preferred controller settings, it’s likely few would rank a single JoyCon high on the list.

Apex Legends player suggests humorous notification concept for quitters – Dexerto
Apex Legends player suggests humorous notification concept for quitters Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players fed up with teammates leaving their games early have suggested a hilarious notification concept that could help Respawn deal with the epidemic. It is no secret Apex players are not fans of their downed teammates quitting out of the game before they can revive them, and who can blame them? The choice leaves them shorthanded if they do get a chance to win, and can make the match twice as hard. Respawn has done their best to punish rage-quitters with things like abandon penalties and matchmaking delays, but one player has gone in a different direction with their idea, instead preferring to make the quitters feel bad for their decision to ditch early. The player, ‘ThinkOTB’, suggested developers implement a small side-of-screen notification that pops up in your next game, informing you the players you left in the last match ended up Champions. “Your team just won the previous game you left,” reads the message. “They need to know!” said ThinkOTB as they shared the basic graphic edit. While many agreed that it was an interesting concept, however, some had their doubts about it’s value. “Do you think they really care if you won the game?” one responder said, while another laid out their complete view on having fun in Apex verse winning games regularly. “See, the issue is that sometimes I as a weaker player get paired up with some ‘TTV 20bomber’ who then proceeds to run 400 meters in front of me, mercilessly slay any and all squads he comes across … ignores any requests to slow down, wait for me, help me, and keeps pushing towards the most heated combat,” AlcatorSK explained. “So if I die in that situation … what good is there in staying in such a game? The most valuable currency in the world is TIME. I used to think that it’s a mistake to disconnect from the game if you die, but I no longer think so. You want wins? Go ahead, win. I want fun.” The suggestion also raised a key point that many in the community have been calling for some time – the return of the solo playlist, which was removed from the game after a short time live during the infamous Iron Crown event. One commenter suggested it’s return as perfect for the gung-ho players that leave others behind, even though they expressed their disinterest in playing in the playlist themselves. “They need to just bring solos back. I don’t like to play it, but the people who just go off and do whatever the hell they want, obviously aren’t in it for the team aspect. So let them play against each other, and they can go Rambo Rodney each other to death, while people who like squads can have FUN!” the player said. Whether or not the community likes the idea of a notification telling you that you’d missed out on a Victory Royale in Respawn’s game, it’s certainly an amusing one. And who knows, there are probably a few players that wouldn’t quit next time around, learning a valuable lesson in sticking it out through thick and thin and trying to win every game alongside their squad mates.

Apex Legends player suggests 4 simple changes to improve the game – Dexerto
Apex Legends player suggests 4 simple changes to improve the game Respawn/EA[jwplayer y770CzB5]An Apex Legends player has put forward a few ideas for quality of life changes that would actually help the battle royale in a big way. Ever since Apex Legends was first released back in February of 2019, fans have been putting forward their ideas – some creative, and some not so – for things they’d like to see in the battle royale. Pretty much everything has been put forward, including new legends, new cosmetics, new weapons, and even new maps. While the Respawn team have noted that they can’t really follow fan concepts for fear of plagiarism, that hasn’t deterred players from still presenting their thoughts. Though, the newest round of ideas isn’t about adding a new character or a new weapon, but more focused on changing a few small things that would help pretty much every player. The four quality of life changes were put forward by Reddit user zancray, with each of them being pretty useful for the majority of Apex players. These include having a time that shows how long Gibraltar’s Dome of Protection has left, the ability to aim down sight with a Mastiff to stop reloading, as well as the ability to toggle the precision choke hop-uo on and off. On top of those, the Redditor also put forward the idea of having an on-screen indication of what zoom level you’re using with a variable zoom scope when the weapon is holstered. Of course, while these ideas seem simple enough for Respawn to add, and fans have made it clear that they’d be useful changes, the devs do have the final say on what gets added and what misses out. We’ll just have to wait and see if these ideas inspire any future changes, or if they’re just left to be remembered as a what could have been.

Apex Legends player stunned by damage from invisible Firing Range enemy – Dexerto
Apex Legends player stunned by damage from invisible Firing Range enemy Respawn/EAAn Apex Legends player was left stunned after being attacked by an invisible enemy while minding their own business in the Firing Range training mode. Since players were told that Firing Range had secrets to be uncovered way back in season three, Apex Legends fans who may not have bothered with the practice mode will regularly find themselves killing some time there. Plenty will use to mode to get their aim right, while others have been looking for any sort of bugs or secrets – like the third-person bug that appeared before the limited-time mode launched. Though, in more recent hunts, one player was left pretty stunned by the fact that they came under fire from something – even though they were all alone in the practice mode. The player in question was Reddit user SoaT-Apex, who noted that while they were minding their own business – getting warmed up with a Wingman – their health came under attack. Now, the player’s health didn’t deplete as if they were being ravaged by an R301 or even Devotion, but it was ticking away at enough speed that caused them to jump – and for the game to throw out some of Pathfinder’s voice lines. Though, after a few seconds, the damage stopped and SoaT-Apex was fine to continue going about their practice and warm-up – even if they may have been a bit warier about their surroundings. Some fans might think that, for one reason or another, this is either a bug within firing range or another secret that you’ll need to pull back layers to uncover. However, briek21, seemed to offer up a plausible answer. They noted that when you drop into Firing Range, Apex actually loads you in with other people – even if you’ll never see them. For that reason, the Redditor could have been hit by a rogue thermite grenade from a different player. While that could very well be the case, judging by how the health ticked away, without official word from anyone, there is no way of knowing for certain. If it is a bug, however, it will be something that Respawn will want to root out in order to prevent players actually dying in Firing Range. It is all about getting warmed up, not frustrated.

Apex Legends player stunned after encountering an 8-man squad in Trios – Dexerto
Apex Legends player stunned after encountering an 8-man squad in Trios Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player was left stunned after encountering an 8-man squad while playing a normal round of Trios. Apex Legends fans know that the battle royale title only has dedicated matchmaking options for Trios and Duos. Players who want to go into a match alone can choose a ‘No Fill’ team, but they must still choose either Trios or Duos. While some fans have speculated whether larger party options like Quads could come to the hero-shooter BR title, Respawn seems keen on simply keeping team sizes down to three at the most. However, that all went out the window after one player encountered an 8-man squad in a normal game of Trios. Apex Legends player runs into 8-man squad in Trios A post on the Apex Legends subreddit highlighted the strange encounter in a thread simply titled, “I encountered [an] 8 men squad on a normal game of Trios.” The OP included a screenshot of their game, which showed them spectating a Squad that had eight total players. Interestingly enough, every member of the squad was a different Legend, meaning there were no double-ups. While the player who posted the screenshot admitted they were “not sure if it’s a bug or a cheat” that they ran into, some players claimed this was possibly an old bug resurfacing in Season 17. “There was a bug during early days of Apex when there were 4 players paired up in Trios…” said one fan, while another claimed, “This happened when Season 7 came out as well, teams of 5-15 all over the place.” However, this particular bug was completely new to some players, as one fan said they’d never seen anything like this before. “Holy sh*t that’s insane lol, that’s definitely one I’ve never seen before. Here’s to hoping we don’t gotta deal with this sh*t in Season 18.” Thankfully this bug seems rather rare, meaning it won’t likely be a frequent occurrence in most games, but if players see a mass of the same colored Dive Trails at the beginning of a match they should head the other way.

Apex Legends player sparks debate by comparing it to Valorant – Dexerto
Apex Legends player sparks debate by comparing it to Valorant Respawn Entertainment, Riot GamesAn Apex Legends player posted a video comparing the BR title to Valorant without context, leading to a heated debate between fans of both games. Apex Legends and Valorant are two of the top FPS titles on PC. The former is Respawn Entertainment’s take on the battle royale genre, infusing hero abilities with Titanfall lore. The latter is Riot Games’ take on the tactical FPS scene. Much like Apex Legends, Valorant infuses hero abilities into a formula pioneered by CS:GO to great success. Both titles require a certain set of skills necessary to dominate the competition. One player has taken the time to highlight those skills in a comparison that makes Apex Legends look a bit more complicated than Valorant. This comparison, however, has sparked a heated debate amongst gamers. Player shows why Apex Legends is harder than Valorant In true “impression farming” standard, EvilToaster shares a clip that compared Valorant and Apex Legends. The top clip showed Chamber as he held an angle with the Operator on Split before Sage peeked and died. The second clip showed the same player in a 1v1 in the Apex Legends firing range. Most 1v1’s are intense, and this is no different, as both players used Peacekeepers and showed off slick movement. Titled “Getting a kill in Valorant, Getting a kill in Apex,” EvilToaster sparked a debate amongst players of both titles. Many were quick to call out Toaster’s bluff. “This is like comparing GTA and World of Warcraft LMAO tf is this post,” replied one user. “Comparing a BR and a tac-shooter is crazy,” another replied. However, Toaster did have a few supporters on their side. Someone replied “this why apex clears.” The post itself is a bit of a troll, but there might be some form of credence to the debate. Both Apex Legends and Valorant task players with ability coordination. They also require players to know how each character functions, weaknesses, and optimal strategies. There’s also the fact that both are FPS titles, with one of them requiring good crosshair placement and map knowledge and the other requiring much more tracking and movement. If you sat down and thought about it, there might be something to debate as to Apex Legends being more difficult to master.

Apex Legends player somehow has in-game debt due to refund mess up – Dexerto
Apex Legends player somehow has in-game debt due to refund mess up RespawnAn Apex Legends player has gone into “debt” after refunding a purchase through their credit card for a purchase that had already been made. One player discovered what happens when attempting to get a refund for a purchase made on Apex Legends when their younger cousin bought a skin on their account. The story was shared on Reddit as a cautionary tale for others in the community. They explained that after their cousin purchased a skin on their account, the money was refunded but the skin was not removed, resulting in them being placed into Apex Legends Coin debt. “Is there any way that I can fix this without spending the money? I really can’t afford to spend it, but I do like to get something from Apex every once in a while,” said the original poster. They also shared an image of the balance from their account, which showed -6,650 coins in red text. The top comment clarified what had happened and provided a likely reason for the poster’s account going into debt. They explained that since the coins were purchased and then used to buy a skin in the game, and the refunded money was no longer associated with Apex Legends. This created a debt because the player still had the skin, but the money had been refunded and was no longer with Apex Legends. Another commenter shared a similar experience, which put them into even further debt than the original poster. “I’m -9,750 after my chargeback, no way to reverse unless you buy enough to break even…Not worth wasting your time,” they said. The Reddit thread, with over 1,000 upvotes, reminds users to seek refunds through Apex Legends rather than their card companies. Apex Legends allows refunds for unused coins, providing a safer option for accidental refunds. The Apex Legends community is hyper-focused on monetization right now, due to controversial battle pass changes introduced for the upcoming season.

Apex Legends player is somehow gifted over 100 million Apex Coins – Dexerto
Apex Legends player is somehow gifted over 100 million Apex Coins Apex Legends has had an unforgettable release as the game welcomed 25 million players in the span of one week, and one player, in particular, might never forget their first week after being credited with over 100 million Apex Coins. Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale from Respawn Entertainment. While playing the game is free, users can purchase Apex Coins to buy cosmetics and other non-gameplay related items, but one player may be set for life. After finishing up a game, ‘MrJakeHD’ went back to the menu and found that their account had been credited with 125,169,100 Apex Coins, which roughly equals to about $1,287,786. MrJake shared his bewilderment with other Reddit users who suggested he spend the coins as soon as possible in case Respawn decide to do something about this. Amid the excitement, others wondered why MrJakeHD would post the blunder on the popular social site in the first place, which would only bring more attention and guaranteeing that the error be discovered and likely corrected immediately. It was then when a Respawn developer chimed in to say they “see this kinda stuff regardless of Reddit” posts. It’s still unknown whether the coins came from a player or a bug, but others have recommended MrJake check their bank account to see if the mistake didn’t come from a repeat of charges. The company has already laid out a 10-year plan for the battle royale, and it’s safe to say that, unless Respawn correct the mishap, MrJakeHD will be ready for whatever the game comes out with.

Apex Legends player shows why they should never be the jumpmaster – Dexerto
Apex Legends player shows why they should never be the jumpmaster Respawn EntertainmentBeing the jumpmaster is never easy, as one Apex Legends player shows why they should never hold the title again. Upon picking up Apex Legends, you’ll find there’s a lot to learn in the battle royale made by Respawn Entertainment. From mastering all the playable characters to understanding optimal looting strategies, there’s plenty to learn to dominate the competition. One of the most underrated skills to have is good jumpmaster etiquette, as you must lead your team to safety while setting the tone for a good match start. Unfortunately for this Apex Legends player, they’re keenly aware of how lacking their tech is. Apex Legends player lands team outside of the playable area The title of jumpmaster has been a filler of sorts, as other battle royale games let players jump at their whim. Developer Respawn Entertainment takes this position seriously; when the jumpmaster jumps, everyone jumps. One Apex Legends player got stuck with the role, leading their team on a ride of a lifetime. Landing on the side of the turbine, they slid down the map through the out-of-bounds areas. With the timer flashing red, the jumpmaster managed to navigate back to the safe area. Their teammates did not, leaving death boxes raining from above. Normally, a situation like this wouldn’t have been a problem. The player could’ve picked up both banners and beelined to the nearest respawn beacon. However, the gravity of the situation sinks in as Newcastle’s box looks from above, stuck on the edge of the building. The community response was also aware of the mishap, with one user saying “Bro thinks hes horizon.” It all ends with the ironic “You’re safe with Gibraltar.”

Apex Legends player shows what happens when Prowlers escape – Dexerto
Apex Legends player shows what happens when Prowlers escape EAAs part of Apex Legends’ Old Ways event, players can dive into Bloodhound’s Trials to face-off against Prowlers in exchange for some high-tier loot. But what happens when the beast follows you into battle? A plethora of welcomed changes came as part of Bloodhound’s lore event, including the highly requested return of Kings Canyon and a permanent ‘Duos’ mode. Although one unique facet of the Old Ways event is the inclusion of Prowlers — an ancient beast that plays into Bloodhound’s lore, as shown in the cinematic trailer which delved into the character’s backstory. Situated in the northwest portion of World’s Edge, players can lock horns with a horde of Prowlers as part of Bloodhound’s Trails, in a bid to earn some high-tier loot and give your squad the best chances when facing enemy teams. Throughout the event, the biggest threat up until this point has been fending off your foes from attempting to scavenge your hard-earned loot. However, popular Youtuber ‘Zylbrad’ found that Bloodhound’s old foe poses just as much of a threat as the rest of the players on the server. After toying with the Prowlers for a few minutes, the Australian lured them to the main exit of the cavern, where the hungry beast broke free from the shackles of their chamber and posed as World’s Edge’s biggest threat. After a toying with the creature for a little, Zylbrad and co. were hunted by the Prowler and found themselves on the receiving end of the Prowler’s wrath as they seemingly struggled to escape the four-legged brute. Read more: Apex Legends leak reveals Loba’s abilities – Despite his best efforts to keep the Prowler alive, Brad watched on as an enemy team slain their ‘companion’ — which showcased its incredible speed and jumping prowess while hunting both Zylbrad and pajamamax. But, the Prowler did get their sweet revenge on Paja before bowing out of the server, as it took advantage of Gibraltar’s cumbersome attire and pounced on him as he attempted to scale a building to escape his inevitable fate. Whether this is an intentional feature or not, this is the first time we’ve seen Prowler’s escape from their dedicated area. If this is the level of disruption one of the beasts can cause, imagine if an entire horde escaped and wreaked havoc over World’s Edge…

Apex Legends player shows how Pathfinder’s Grapple can win you games – Dexerto
Apex Legends player shows how Pathfinder’s Grapple can win you games EAPathfinder’s Grappling Hook is a handy tool to get you from Point A to Point B in Apex Legends, however it can also secure you a victory in hilarious fashion if your timing is just right. While Pathfinder doesn’t drop into battle with the most aggressive abilities in the game, there’s no denying that the Support Legend can come in clutch throughout the final moments of a match. With an emphasis on mobility, it’s exceptionally rare for Pathfinder to secure a kill on behalf of his tools yet this amusing final showdown demonstrated just how powerful the Grappling Hook can be. In a November 24 post, a closely contested Diamond matchup came down to the wire. With only two squads remaining the odds became drastically lopsided as a well-timed snipe forced a three on one scenario. Spotting the final opponent atop a nearby roof, the Pathfinder sent forth his Grappling Hook in order to scale up the building and close the gap. Read More: When does Apex Legends Season 4 start? – Directly connecting to the enemy instead, this particular grapple hilariously locked on and pulled the opposition down into the midst of an entire team where they would swiftly meet their demise. The grapple was fired just above the building itself, launching over the rooftop and connecting with an unaware enemy behind. An extremely rare use of the ability, it can be tremendously difficult to latch onto enemies and pull them into you, let alone in the closing moments of a ranked match. Having left himself entirely exposed during the grapple however, Pathfinder was eventually knocked down but ultimately, the unbelievable maneuver guaranteed the victory for his squad. This offensive use of the ability is such a niche tactic that even dedicated players are often caught by surprise. “Wait, you can do this?” Reddit user ‘CoffeeDealer99’ asked, amazed at what they had just witnessed in the game-winning play. Undeniably one of the best uses of Pathfinder’s kit in some time, the entire squad would have erupted in laughter at the sight of an enemy being pulled down right in front of them. One of many amusing ways to end an Apex Legends match it seems, a Bronze player recently demonstrated how Octane’s Launch Pad can lead to a hilarious finish as well.

Apex Legends player shows how OP Charge Rifle is even after being nerfed – Dexerto
Apex Legends player shows how OP Charge Rifle is even after being nerfed The new Charge Rifle weapon in Apex Legends was supposed to have been nerfed, but it’s still being used as the most dominant gun in the game. When Season 3: Meltdown launched in Apex Legends, it introduced a flurry of new content, including the brand-new map World’s Edge, Crypto Legend, and the Charge Rifle. The Charge Rifle is an energy weapon that shoots out a direct beam of energy, which, upon contact with an enemy, deals a tremendous amount of damage. It quickly established itself as one of the more powerful guns in the game, and it did not take long for the players to reach a general consensus that the weapon was way too overpowered. Read More: Apex Legends October 17 update patch notes – As a result, Respawn Entertainment took some steps to balance the gun, implementing several nerfs to its magazine size, fall-off damage, and ammo consumption per shot. However, despite reducing the fall-off damage distances, the developers didn’t touch the weapon’s regular damage stats – which may have turned out to be a big mistake in the eyes of some players. On October 18, just a day after the update went live, Reddit user ‘NoahSpancer21′ posted in-game footage to demonstrate how overpowered the weapon still was. Using the Charge Rifle, the player targeted a full enemy squad from an extremely long range, and proceeded to mow them down almost effortlessly. In fact, judging from the clip, the gun didn’t look like it had been touched by the devs, sparking frustration from players that the weapon still remains unbalanced. Some users in the comments tried to explain the video by saying that enemy players were standing too still, which made eliminating them a lot easier than it should have been. However, others countered this argument by claiming that the Charge Rifle shouldn’t be able to take down anyone in that manner, no matter the skill of the enemy, because no other weapon can deal that much damage at that range with such ease. Either way, it looks like the developers still have an issue in their hands when it comes to the game’s newest weapon – and only time will tell if they will decide to implement further nerfs.

Apex Legends player shows off “optimal loadout” for Fuse mains – Dexerto
Apex Legends player shows off “optimal loadout” for Fuse mains EA/RespawnA dangerous loadout for Fuse mains in Apex Legends gains traction as players discuss how deadly it could be. Meta loadouts come and go with games as updates fluctuate the balance of certain weapons or abilities. In Apex Legends, figuring out what items to hold onto that enhance your character’s powers can give the player an advantage in the match. Fans of the game have taken to Reddit with a new loadout for the character Fuse that could cause some serious damage. “Optimal loadout” for Fuse shows promise Fuse is the only character who can stack two grenades in their inventory slot with his passive ability, Grenadier. That opens up extra space for healing, ammo, or more grenades if the player desires. Fuse can also throw grenades great distances and with incredible accuracy for long-range fights. One player made a Reddit post of an ‘optimal loadout’ for the character. Stocked with various grenades and a small amount of health, the loadout is sure to create enough havoc to down the enemy or give your team enough time to counter. Replies to the post supported the choices, with one giving a joke critique: “Absolutely wrong, medkits are useless! You need another stack of arcs.” Another user said, “I would love to see gameplay with this inventory.” It wasn’t long until a different user posted a video to the subreddit showing what Fuse can do when given enough explosives. This player is in the final ring of the match, and when it comes down to a one-on-one for the win, they begin the barrage of grenades. It leaves the opponent looking for any cover and puts tremendous pressure on them while Fuse gets closer and closer to taking them out. Comments on the video agree on the tactics used with one user that said: “The type of Fuse player everyone fears.” It’s a viable loadout as the pressure puts on someone or save oneself are both incredibly handy. As long as the player doesn’t get lost in the chaos it creates, it is certainly deadly in the right hands.

Apex Legends player shows off hilarious “PS1 Edition” graphics glitch – Dexerto
Apex Legends player shows off hilarious “PS1 Edition” graphics glitch Respawn Entertainment / SonyAn Apex Legends player has shown off a hilarious graphical glitch on the PS5 version of the game that made in-game models “PS1 Edition.” While the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of Apex Legends run better than ever on console, the next-gen console versions – unfortunately – don’t protect the game from bizarre glitches. Additionally, Season 15 is no exception as players have encountered a handful of issues with things like Catalyst’s Ultimate ability and K/DR ratios displaying incorrectly for some. Now, one player has encountered a strange graphical glitch on PS5 that turned every character model into a blocky, low-poly version of themselves. Apex Legends player shows “PS1 Edition” glitch A post on the Apex Legends subreddit by user Inked_Cat showed the glitch in a video captioned “Apex Legends PS1 Edition.” The video in question opened with a low-poly version of Rampart on the character customization screen. In place of the normal model, Rampart low-poly version featured a blocky, flat face with muddied textures across the entire model. The Apex Legends video showed the same thing happening with other characters like Loba, who featured a similarly flat face with a splotchy texture across it. While the textures on some articles of clothing were fairly sharp, the models were largely blocky and stiff with barely any joint articulation. According to Inked_Cat, the glitch occurred after “Apex kept crashing on my PS5. When it restarted everything was low poly and it made for an interesting hilarious game night…” The Apex Legends glitch persisted into both the Firing Range and regular matches. Alongside the quality of the models, many of the animations also appeared with much lower quality. For example, one shot of Loba dropping on a location showed the Legend stuck in a mid-jump animation during the entire drop. Similarly, finisher animations did not play at all leading to Loba approaching an enemy, standing in front of them for a few seconds, followed by a deathbox appearing. It’s unclear whether or not the glitch remedied itself after a restart, but it’s clear that the glitch made for quite an entertaining play session regardless.

Apex Legends player shows off frustrating hit registration bug with Longbow sniper rifle – Dexerto
Apex Legends player shows off frustrating hit registration bug with Longbow sniper rifle Apex LegendsAn Apex Legends player using the Longbow DMR sniper rifle came across an infuriating bug that’s currently plaguing the popular battle royale game. While the Apex Legends community have loved Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale, they have been begging for crucial fixes for bugs that have been plaguing the game since its February 4 launch. One of those complaints stem from the game’s seemingly random shot registrations that seem to be hit or miss, especially with Legends like Octane, Pathfinder and Wraith. That shot definitely hit the target In a Reddit post, user ‘Reizag’ was scoping with their Longbow aiming at far away Octane, but was greeted with one of the most stunning instances of bugged hit registration to date. Read more: How can Mirage’s Passive Ability be fixed? Apex Legends player offers the perfect solution – After zeroing in on the Adrenaline Junkie, Reizag launched a couple of shots that hit square on the foe, dealing a total of 110 damage and breaking their golden Body Armor. Reizag definitely showed they’re no slouch with the sniper, so they stayed locked hoping to finish the kill, but it didn’t turn out that way. After landing the first two shots in a row, Reizag can be seen hitting their third as well. But even as the player saw a plume of blood coming from Octane after landing the third shot, there was no damage indicator to confirm the hit. The player continued to shoot, missing the fourth shot but landing the one soon after. But again, Reizag sees a splatter of blood emanating from the Stimmed up Octane without a damage counter. Why didn’t the shots land? There was confusion in the Reddit thread to which one of the many bugs were on display in the clip, as some thought it was another case of wonky hitboxes that have appeared throughout matches in King’s Canyon. “This is a hit-reg issue (probably related to netcode/tick rate),” Reddit user ‘Aetherimp’ said. “Pathfinder is a hitbox issue. They have similar symptoms, but different causes.” Going by Reizag’s previous hits dealing 55 damage a piece with armor, if all the shots that were supposed to land actually did, Octane should have received about 220 of total damage. That damage would have been more than enough to down or eliminate the enemy. Bugs in Apex Legends have been a thorn in players’ sides since launch, and the community is hopeful the developers will issue permanent fixes soon.

Apex Legends player shows off customizable Prestige Skin concept – Dexerto
Apex Legends player shows off customizable Prestige Skin concept Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player proposed the concept of customizable Prestige Skins and created a detailed mockup of how it could function in-game. Apex Legends has a plethora of different cosmetics that players can equip, but one of the most rare Skin types in the game are called Prestige Skins. To unlock a Prestige Skin, players must first purchase them from the Mythic Store. From there, they must be upgraded through three different tiers to bring out the final design of the Mythic skin. However, some players think these flashy skins should be a bit more special, as one player created an interesting concept art mockup of fully customizable Prestige Skins. Apex Legend fan creates customizable Prestige Skin concept A post on the Apex Legends subreddit titled, “We should be able to customize Prestige Skin colors,” included the concept mockup. The art features a slew of different customization options, including checkboxes for the Skin and Dive Trail, three main color options, and six accent color options. The concept also included the option to equip a Legend’s Heirloom, should the player already have access to it. Plenty of players in the comments section commended the mockup and expressed interest in seeing a similar option implanted into the battle royale. “This would be amazing. I’d love to make the gold parts of Rev’s skin silver.” Others suggested even more customization could be added to the concept. “I would like to customize individual aspects of the skin too. For Valk i love the mouth guard of stage one, the Valk helmet of stage two, and the armor of three.” Sadly, members of the community didn’t seem too optimistic that a feature like this would actually make it into Apex Legends. “Don’t you think you’re asking a lot for a $150 video game skin,” joked one fan, while another said, “This has been suggested multiple times, and while I do think it’s a good idea, there is no way they will allow this. They want to sell recolors.” The option to purchase recolored skins has been a hot topic in the Apex Legends community for some time. However, considering how expensive Prestige Skins are, it would certainly go a long way in adding even more value to them.

Apex Legends player shows how to use broken Loba Tactical to your advantage – Dexerto
Apex Legends player shows how to use broken Loba Tactical to your advantage Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has showcased how to use Loba’s broken teleport to gain the advantage by bamboozling an opponent and picking up an easy win. Since her arrival in the Outlands, Loba has become one of the most iconic characters on the Apex Legends roster and a brilliant choice for those who love kitting out their weapons with the best attachments. While her Ultimate definitely provides the most value for her squad, it’s her Tactical that is essential for teleporting her out of trouble and pursuing retreating enemies. Unfortunately, a major bug with the bracelet is causing it to cancel nonstop in Season 13 and while the devs have said they’re working on a fix, the issue has not been resolved just yet. Although this has caused a massive amount of frustration for Loba mains, one player managed to use the glitch to their advantage and bamboozled an opponent to secure a victory. Apex player uses broken Loba Tactical to bamboozle enemy Loba’s Tactical bug has led to countless deaths in the Outlands, with plenty of players attempting to escape danger, just to have the bracelet cancel and return to them. Well, Reddit user Srivo10 has broken the trend and actually showcased a scenario where the Tactical bug managed to secure them a victory. After reaching the final circle with one other squad, Srivo10 managed to win a gunfight with an opponent but was left with close to no health left. Realizing the last member of the enemy squad was approaching, Srivo10 decided to throw the Loba Tactical to escape. Noticing the bracelet in the air, the opponent decided to turn and run toward the landing location. At this point, the bug triggered which canceled the teleport, giving Srivo10 an easy kill and the victory. It’s safe to say this is an extremely rare occurrence that will likely never benefit you when you’re playing Loba. However, it does show there’s often a silver lining to any glitch, and Srivo10 has proven it is possible to bamboozle opponents with the bracelet. Either way, let’s hope the devs can resolve the Tactical issue as soon as possible so Loba mains can get back to causing havoc in the Outlands.

Apex Legends player shows how to bait enemies with Pathfinder’s Zipline – Dexerto
Apex Legends player shows how to bait enemies with Pathfinder’s Zipline Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has found the perfect way to bait enemies and get out of sticky situations using Pathfinder’s zipline – and it could be a game-changer if you’re a Pathfinder main. Pathfinder is one of the original Apex Legends characters and one of the most popular to use. Being a support Legend with great movement and strong abilities, the wholesome MRVN can change the game in an instant if you know what you’re doing. While not quite as popular and widely-used as Wraith – who is the most-picked legend in the game – Pathfinder still has a faithful fanbase and, with this type of trickery, it’s clear why. Posting to the official subreddit, Apex Legends player, Cuasii, showcased a phenomenal way to get out of imminent danger and gift yourself a second chance when running Pathfinder. Cuasii took a gunfight that seemed to be on a solo player before an enemy teammate rounded the corner, meaning both were piling bullets into him. Naturally, Cuasii used Pathfinder’s grappling hook ability to try and break free from the situation, losing most of his health in the process. Then, dropping off the side of some rocks, he set up a zipline but didn’t take it, instead hiding behind the rocks and watching as the enemy team all jumped over him and rode the zipline, which lured them into thinking that they were chasing him down. This move not only saved Cuasii’s life, but allowed him time to reload his weapons and apply a Phoenix Kit to bring himself back to full health — before trying to retrieve his downed teammate’s banner. Though they haven’t confirmed whether they won the match, pulling off such an impressive play definitely seems a win regardless of the final result. Naturally, most of the commenters on Reddit were pretty impressed, with some even implying that Cuasii should be playing Mirage with that level of stealth, but they subsequently confirmed that they will be sticking with Pathfinder for now. In December 2019, a Star Wars-themed skin was made available for Pathfinder, inspired by companion droid BD-1. So if you’re planning on copying Cuasii’s stealthy technique to keep yourself alive, doing it in with an intergalactic skin may just be the best way to do it.

Apex Legends player shows how to allegedly bypass SBMM – Dexerto
Apex Legends player shows how to allegedly bypass SBMM An Apex Legends player has claimed to have found a way to bypass the battle royale’s skill-based matchmaking system – showcasing how exactly they’ve managed to do it. Skill-based matchmaking, or SBMM, has become a controversial addition to many top multiplayer games. Be it Fortnite and their inclusion of bots, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, or Apex Legends, fans have voiced their displeasure at the system. It is designed to match you up with players of your perceived skill level – giving newer players an easier learning curve than normal – and allowing more experienced players to have a challenging, yet rewarding experience. Yet, it hasn’t worked out like that, and has only led to frustrations – including long wait times for games or the system not working altogether and putting players in the wrong lobbies. In a post to the Apex Legends subreddit, though, user Kozvrt showcased their method for “successfully” bypassing skill-based matchmaking – all by using a friend and backing out of lobbies before matches. “If you don’t want to use this and think it’s detrimental to the game, don’t. If you do, then do,” the Redditor said. “Either respawn fixes this and addresses sbmm concerns, or continues to ignore this and every other issue with the game.” Some other fans chimed in with their own feelings on the discovery with one, YoVari, urging players to “abuse this” as much as they could – seemingly in order to get a response from Respawn’s developers. Another, stuffslols, was slightly less eager to see the method in use. They commented: “Well, can’t say I will use this myself, it’s good practice in my mind, but I’m glad some other people found a way to have fun.” Comment by from discussion inapexlegends Wheter or not players start using this method, or ones that they may have found themselves to bypass SBMM, remains to be seen. If finding a way around the system does, in fact, become pretty rampant, it may force Respawn’s hand into making a change in order to get things back on track.

Apex Legends player shows how effective Fuse’s Grenadier ability can be – Dexerto
Apex Legends player shows how effective Fuse’s Grenadier ability can be Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has pulled off an absolutely incredible Arc Star throw that directly hit an opponent 250 meters away using Fuse’s passive ability. The arrival of Season 8 has meant a lot of exciting additions and changes for Apex Legends players. From extensive map changes to King’s Canyon to the new 30-30 repeater rifle, there’s plenty of content to get stuck into in the new season. However, perhaps the most significant update of Season 8 was the arrival of Fuse to the roster of Legends. Although he hasn’t been out long, he’s already become a fan-favorite legend among the community. One aspect of his kit that everyone loves is his ability to throw grenades further and more accurately than any other character. Well, one Apex player has shown exactly what Fuse’s passive ability is capable of, landing a 250 meter Arc Star throw on an opponent. Apex Legends player lands insane Arc Star throw A thread posted to the Apex Legends subreddit of a player landing a 250m Arc Star throw has gone viral with thousands of responses. Using the new Legend Fuse, CompControlled can be seen firing a grenade at a set of opponents far away in the distance. His first attempt falls slightly short so he loads up an Arc Star and goes for a second try. Read More: Best Kings Canyon landing spots in Season 8 – After lining up the shot, his teammates ping exactly where the enemies are located and he adjusts the indicator to ensure it lands directly on them . Then, he goes for the throw and the star flies through the air and directly hits an opponent over 250 meters away. Completely lost for words, he and his teammates burst into laughter, in shock that he actually landed a direct hit with the star. It’s fair to say CompControlled’s throw was extremely lucky and would be difficult for any Apex Legends player to replicate. However, it does show how effective Fuse’s passive can be when used properly at range. We’ll have to keep an eye out for anymore extraordinary Fuse grenade clips as there’s guaranteed to a lot more over the course of Season 8.

Apex Legends player shows just how easy it is to team in solos – Dexerto
Apex Legends player shows just how easy it is to team in solos EAThe introduction of a solos playlist in Apex Legends has been well received by the community but some players have shown how easy it is to abuse the system and team. When Apex Legends first launched back in February, it only came with a 3-person squads option but fast forward to August and players now have a proper way to play solo. For the most part, everyone is behaving but some players are finding ways to team, which led to Respawn adding an option to report them. Reddit user That_one_toxic_guy, living up to his name, posted a screenshot of four players on top of a chest in the solos mode. However, he revealed in the replies that those were four of his friends and he was with them, making a whopping five players of the lobby all on the same team. It’s important to note we don’t condone teaming and it is a bannable offense in Apex Legends. “Welp we joined into an Xbox party and joined at the same server,” the user wrote in a comment which has since received 36 downvotes at the time of writing. Of course, players doing this in battle royale titles is nothing new as we’ve seen it in Fortnite and PUBG before it. The reporting option, while being in the game, is only effective on PC as the reports go directly to Respawn. On PS4 and Xbox One, a report will have to go through Sony and Microsoft respectively and there’s no telling how long it takes for action to be taken that way. An alternative would be recording the gameplay yourself and sending it to Respawn, but not everyone has the tools to do that easily. Fortunately, teaming isn’t extremely widespread so it’s not something you should go into every match suspecting.

Apex Legends player shows Crypto’s strength with crazy Respawn Beacon strat – Dexerto
Apex Legends player shows Crypto’s strength with crazy Respawn Beacon strat Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans were left wowed by Crypto’s strengths after one player showed off a crazy strat that involved ‘stealing’ an enemy team’s Respawn Beacon. For the majority of Apex Legends’ lifespan there have been a handful of Legends that have dominated the fanbases’ interest and thus get the most attention. Legends like Wraith, Octane, and Pathfinder serve as many players’ go-to Legend. However, those who branch out and dedicate themselves to other specialist Legends have been known to surprise the community with their skill. Recently, one player made an excellent example of this after wowing fans with a skillful Crypto play that robbed an enemy team of their Respawn Beacon, essentially flipping a firefight on its head. Apex Legend player shows off wild Crypto ‘stealing’ play A Reddit user by the name Runsett- made a post on the Apex Legends subreddit titled, “Fight went bad? Steal their respawn beacon with Crypto.” The post gained traction among the community after fans were impressed with the minute-long video included. The video shows the OP, as Crypto, and their squad getting into a fight on Broken Moon. The firefight leaves both teams with some losses, but ultimately forces the Crypto player to retreat. As Crypto backs off, the enemy Newcastle tries to take advantage of the opportunity to respawn the fallen Octane using a Respawn Beacon. Thanks to some quick thinking, the Crypto player used their drone to sneakily recover both fallen teammate banners and use the enemies’ deployed Respawn Beacon to bring back their team instead. Fans in the comments applauded the player’s resourcefulness and quick thinking. “Crypto mains can be so scary lol,” said one fan. “Like no other legend could pull what is possibly the quickest reset ever, all while fucking over the team that nearly killed you lmfao.” This clip apparently taught some fans useful Crypto tips as well, as many players didn’t even know Crypto could heal while using his Drone. While many Apex players prefer more straightforward Legends like Octane and Wraith, plays like these cement just how deep and diverse the game’s roster truly is.

Apex Legends player shocked after drawing ends up in the actual game – Dexerto
Apex Legends player shocked after drawing ends up in the actual game Respawn Entertainment / EA GamesAn Apex Legends fan was given the ultimate surprise when Respawn Entertainment added their Mirage drawing to the game in what is one of the most wholesome easter eggs ever. Popular first-person shooter Apex Legends dropped in February 2019 and quickly became an overnight success, as the Battle Royale’s popularity was fueled by the unique cast of legends that players could choose from. However, one fan shared their “unfinished” drawing of Mirage over six months ago, only to be shocked when they discovered that it managed to make its way into the game. Fan gets their drawing added to the game Reddit user ‘orington_makings’ first uploaded their drawing of Mirage on March 20, and their post was titled “Mirage drawing I have made. I got bored so I didn’t finish but I did too much work to not show it off.” Then on October 12, the same user created an update post, where they shared their surprise at finding out that their drawing actually made it into the game, despite being months old. In a new post, Orington showed off their older submission of the drawing, next to a screenshot of a loading screen in the game that features the drawing pinned up as fan art in Mirage’s headquarters. “Massive thanks to Apex for adding my little Mirage drawing I made long ago into the game as a little easter egg in the first loading screen!” the excited fan said. “I swear, that alone is now my permanent loading screen now!” While it’s cool for any fan to get their design into the thing they created art from, the easter egg has an extra level to it, as it’s actually mindblowingly meta as Reddit user ‘PrimePCG’ explained. Read More: How to climb skyscrapers in World’s Edge – “They implemented it basically the same way, in universe.” they stated. “You sent in some fan mail of Mirage. Mirage has it displayed in-game like some actual fan mail that he received… It’s almost like you actually got it all the way to him personally.” While Respawn Entertainment has had some differences with its community in the past, there is no denying that this is really cool easter egg, and shows that they do actually read what fans submit on social media. Apex Legends Season 3 recently just launched on October 1, and has fans going crazy – who knows, maybe some S3 fan art will make its way into S4.

Apex Legends player shares perfect way to buff the terrible Mozambique – Dexerto
Apex Legends player shares perfect way to buff the terrible Mozambique While many players have been quick to decide on their favorite Apex Legends weapons since the game’s release, it’s become quite clear that one weapon has drawn the ire of the entire community. With so many weapons to choose from in Apex Legends, it’s no surprise that some are better than others. It is a surprise, however, to find that the Mozambique is by far the worst gun in the entire game. On paper, the Moazmbique should be a great weapon, given that it’s a shotgun in pistol form. In actuality, though, the minuscule damage it doles out leads to an underwhelming experience that usually ends in death. Knowing the weapon needs some major help, Reddit user ‘Rayledare’ came up with a perfect way to buff the weapon and possibly bring it in line with other weapons in the game. The change, which is incredibly simple, gives the Mozambique a Hop-Up slot that allows for the underpowered weapon to be dual-wielded. Dual-wielding the Mozambique would allow the weapon to have much more killpower without even needing to buff the base stats of the weapon itself. The fact that this change would require a Hop-Up would also prevent it from being too strong, as players would need to find the Hop-Up first and couldn’t simply dual-wield right out the gate. With the first new weapon dropping on February 20, Respawn is no doubt aware that certain weapons might need buffing (or nerfing) and it will certainly need changes in order to keep the weaker weapons from diluting the loot pool. Respawn have already let players know that they’re listening to feedback and will be issuing regular updates to the game, meaning it might not be long before we see some weapon balance changes. Whatever changes come when the inevitable balance patch comes, we desperately hope Respawn shows Mozambiques some serious love.

Apex Legends player shares brilliant idea to improve gold armor – Dexerto
Apex Legends player shares brilliant idea to improve gold armor EAApex Legends could use several changes but this small, but significant, change to gold armor would greatly improve things. With fans not receiving any more information about Season 2 of Apex Legends until E3 2019 during EA Play, many fans have decided to spend their time finding ways to improve the game. One fan suggested a simple addition to the gold body armor, something that would greatly improve the armor, while also keeping it from being overpowered. Does gold armor need a change? There are a variety of small tweaks that can be made to Apex Legends to help keep it feeling fresh but this idea from Reddit user blicky-stiffy might just be one of the best ideas yet. Currently, gold body armor easily provides the best level of protection available for players, but there is still room for improvement to make it even more valuable. This simple tweak would also allow the armor to regenerate over time, meaning players won’t have to rely on shield batteries of phoenix kits for repair after a battle. Many of the changes and suggestions from the community often would make things overpowered, but we think this would be quite balanced as it wouldn’t have the ability to recharge during a firefight. It would just be a simple way to cut out the need for additional healing after a firefight. What’s coming with Season 2? Respawn Entertainment teased plenty of new and exciting content coming with Season 2. The Season 1 Battle Pass received a lukewarm reaction from the community but it sounds like that issue will be remedied for Season 2. Among these teases include an improved Battle Pass, new weapons, new Legends and even some new points of interest on the map. If you’re an Apex Legends fan you’re going to want to make sure you pay attention to EA’s E3 presentation as it sounds like a lot of information will be released there.

Apex Legends player shares amazing concept to help teams easily coordinate – Dexerto
Apex Legends player shares amazing concept to help teams easily coordinate RespawnTeam coordination is essential for success in Apex Legends, and one player’s concept could make fully kitting out your squad even easier. There are four types of ammunition in Apex Legends: Light, Heavy, Energy and Shotgun Shells, and each of the game’s weapons takes one of these types. Players can use Apex’s ping system to let their team know what kind of ammo they’re looking for, but one player known as morokoshi0 on Reddit suggested a simple UI change to make things even easier. Morokoshi0’s concept would add icons to each player’s health bar in the bottom right for what kinds of ammunition their weapons take, as well as what level armor, backpack and dropshield each player has. While there’s already icons in the inventory screen to tell what level armor your teammates have, there’s currently no way to determine what ammo each player has. As such, this simple change would make it much easier to find ammunition and make sure your team is ready for the next fight. https://www.reddit.com/r/apexlegends/comments/awtest/hi_im_a_japanese_player_i_have_an_idea_it_can/ Apex players have been coming up with plenty of ideas for the game while they wait for news on the much anticipated Season One pass, which should be coming sometime in March. Popular Twitch streamer Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek hinted that new content would definitely be coming soon, and urged fans to just have a little patience. Apex Legends player sabotages boosting teammate trying to cheat damage badges – Dexerto
Apex Legends player sabotages boosting teammate trying to cheat damage badges Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player decided to take revenge on a teammate that was attempting to boost the 4k damage badge with an enemy Lifeline. While hacks that require third-party software are detected by Apex Legends’ anti-cheat, boosting is a problem that often goes under the radar. Although a lot of the community has suggested that Respawn should record each player’s damage and kills per minute to check for anomalies, this isn’t a solution that can be created overnight. As a result, countless competitors are syncing their queue times with an enemy player and farming 4k damage, as well as the 20 kill damage badge. Well, after realizing their teammate was attempting to boost, one player decided to take action and stop the cheater from unlocking the achievement. Apex player takes revenge on boosting teammate Posted to the Apex Legends subreddit on June 28, user Autski showcased their encounter with a boosting teammate on World’s Edge. After dropping into the map, the Octane was quick to use voice chat to tell Autski to “stop following” them as they were looking to meet up with an enemy Lifeline. Ignoring the warnings, Autski continued to follow the cheater until they reached the location where their teammate intended to farm the badges. Somehow, Autski managed to gain the trust of both cheaters by crouching repeatedly. Pretending to help with the boosting, Autski even dropped their healing items next to the pair while waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Immediately landing a direct Arc Star, Autski took out the Lifeline in an instant and ended their boosting attempts in a matter of seconds. As expected, both cheaters quickly left the game after realizing that they were not going to unlock the badges in that match. Autski finished the clip by encouraging the community to “earn their 4k badge” so it actually holds value. However, with how easy it is to queue up with a friend on the enemy team, it’s unlikely the boosting is going to stop anytime soon unless Respawn can find a way to detect those cheating for badges.

Apex Legends player reveals results of SBMM study after 500 matches – Dexerto
Apex Legends player reveals results of SBMM study after 500 matches Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player decided to conduct a 500 game study on SBMM to see if they could identify any patterns with the matchmaking. Matchmaking is a heavily discussed topic in Apex Legends as a lot of players feel as if the system doesn’t work as intended and often creates unfair lobbies. This is a huge problem in Ranked, as the point of the mode is to test out your skills against opponents of a similar level and slowly ascend the tiers. Unfortunately, very few members of the community understand how SBMM works in Apex Legends, as Respawn hasn’t revealed many details on the system. So, in hopes of solving that problem, an Apex player decided to conduct a 500 game study and they’ve managed to identify a set of patterns in the matchmaking. Apex player conducts 500 match SBMM study Beginning the study at the start of the Ranked season, Master-level player Istiri7 decided to solo queue 500 Trios matches and record their results. Although this isn’t a huge sample size, Istiri did learn a set of key details on the matchmaking system. First of all, it looks like SBMM will gift you a streak when you’ve lost a huge amount of matches in a row, as Istiri’s 37 games loss streak was followed by 21 game span with five wins and three top 10 finishes. However, Istiri also points out that SBMM will “absolutely” punish you when you’re on a hot streak, as their impressive set of wins in a row was followed by 10 matches of troll teammates and 3 stacks with 30-50k kills on each Legend. Finally, Istiri notes that based on their relative skill level, it never felt like they were given teammates that would hard carry them through a match, so they always felt challenged and like they had to play at their best. After listing the key takeaways, Istiri shared some interesting stats that contributed to their overall win rate, including that in 23.8% of their matches, at least one teammate quit while their banner was still active. With an overall win rate of 11.4%, Istiri found that they won 13.6% of the games where they had no leavers, increasing their chance of victory by 2.2%. While the sample size of this study definitely isn’t enough to make conclusive claims about SBMM in Apex Legends, it does give us a rough insight into how the system works. Now, Istiri has plans to record their results from 500 solo queue Duos matches, so it’ll be interesting to see if their results differ.

Apex Legends player reveals more ways to use Revenant’s Ult – Dexerto
Apex Legends player reveals more ways to use Revenant’s Ult EAAn Apex Legends player has revealed a pretty extensive list of different uses for Revenant’s Ultimate ability that can help you become a better teammate and score more wins. Revenant was introduced to Apex Legends’ roster of playable characters after rumors had swirled about the possibility of seeing Forge and even Loba/Rosie. The Synthetic Nightmare has quickly established himself as a part of the game’s meta — though not everyone is a fan of his ability set. The Death Totem Ultimate ability allows Revenant players an extra shot at being alive while in death protection mode, bringing them back with 1HP should they be knocked by an enemy player. However, some fans have found that you can actually use the ability to be a bit more tactical and stealthy. Ripcityterp posted their list of tips to the Apex Legends subreddit, including some of the wider known ones like being able to pull off a revive or grab a teammate’s banner while they’re outside the ring. However, the Redditor had a few more sneaky ones up their sleeve. They noted that the ultimate can be used as a sort of decoy in tightly contested areas because of the noise it produces. With the noise ringing out and attracting enemies, Revenant can crouch walk around pretty undetected — allowing for better positioning. There was also another idea to give teammates support while combining the Legend’s ultimate with throwables, so that you pop the ability when you spot an enemy team, throw a few grenades at them, and rush their position. Other players pointed out that they had a few tips that they’d been used that RipCityTerp had missed out on including in their list. One, STAALION, commented that it can be used as a scouting device, allowing players to check out the status of enemies who they could come into contact with. Another, AlfredosoraX, noted that the totem also has no vertical limit, so players could get into out of bounds areas with it. Clearly, there are plenty of different uses for Revenant’s Death Totem and as time goes on, players will try and find more creative ways to beat their opponents with it. For now, though, it might be best to just try and put these ones into action and see if they work for you.

Apex Legends player reveals how to make Gibraltar immune to grenades – Dexerto
Apex Legends player reveals how to make Gibraltar immune to grenades EAApex Legends players have discovered a very handy use for Gibraltar’s shield that makes him a little more useful than we might have first thought. Gibraltar isn’t a particularly popular pick in Apex Legends, with most players opting for the likes of Wraith or Pathfinder at the Legend select stage. In fact, as of November 2019, Gibraltar was the fifth-least picked Legend in the game, barely ahead of the lower-picked characters. However, this fairly simple but incredibly effective trick may just see Gibraltar utilized a bit more in the future, especially for players that love taking control of a Tank-like Legend. As Reddit user MIPSthebunny shared, Gibraltar’s shield is much more useful than just protecting players from gunfire during a fight – it can even protect from grenades and arc stars. Although this may seem like it’s nothing, a lot of commenters had never actually realized this was possible, despite it being such an obvious advantage to playing as Gibraltar. In the video provided, MIPS is in the Firing Range and throws two frag grenades on the ground in front of him. Immediately using his passive ability, the Gun Shield, he is protected from both grenade blasts – and the shield remained intact the entire time. The top commentator states that while they knew about it, they don’t believe it is common knowledge amongst the general Apex Legends player base and even believes that Gibraltar might be a bit strong at the moment. It has also been noted that Gibraltar’s shield can take the full hit of anything that hits it before it gets destroyed. That means that if the shield only has one health point left, it could still absorb a full 100-damage shot from a Kraber, for example. Some do disagree with this, however, and say that it was his passive shield that took the damage from the first throwable, not the actual shield, therefore making this trick less powerful than it may seem, while others claim that the character must be in the crouched position for this to work effectively. The combination of this and the grenade protection goes to show just how unique and powerful Gibraltar’s passive ability can be when utilized effectively. So before you skip over him when you load into a match, it might be worth considering if Gibraltar could be better than you thought.

Apex Legends player reveals how Caustic looks without his mask – Dexerto
Apex Legends player reveals how Caustic looks without his mask Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer N00PrGvg] An Apex Legends player pulled the mask off of Caustic to give fans a look at the mysterious Toxic Trapper, who’s been turning a new leaf with audiences since Season 4. Caustic has been a diabolical menace in Apex since the game launched. However, he’s been ‘losing his edge’ and is becoming a lot more appealing in the battle royale’s rich lore, resulting in a renewed interest for the evil scientist. As one of the game’s few masked Legends, the more we know about Alexander Nox (Caustic) the more we want to learn about him. He’s becoming an enigma in the game, and people are waiting for when Respawn will finally give him his own Town Takeover to bring his story to light. While we wait for a season where we can fully explore Caustic’s backstory, user ‘ImDeadWood’ tinkered with the Trophy Hunter Legendary skin to give people the best look at his entire face yet. Every one of Caustic’s alternate skins and base design feature a massively imposing mask so that he could wreak havoc with the Nox Gas he’s known for spamming in the Arena. While its practicality is unquestioned, it prevents people from getting a complete look at the Legend that people have been starting to warm up to. Thanks to ImDeadWood, the toxic Legend’s full face is on display in one of the clearest images of his in-game model. The Apex community has been liking the Legend’s open-faced look, with some comparing his image to Santa Clause since his Trophy Hunter skin really leans into the white hair and grey beard aesthetic. “I need a skin with his whole face showing. Like that yellow full body suit, with transparent face front thing,” one user wrote in response to the unofficial reveal. There’s been a ton of fanfare for this rendition of Caustic, making some wonder if the same could be said for Legends like Octane and Bloodhound. It could be a while before we get official skins in Apex Legends that show off these characters’ faces, but players are hoping we can see them sometime in the future.

Apex Legends player resorts to Aimlab to combat Neo Strafe – Dexerto
Apex Legends player resorts to Aimlab to combat Neo Strafe Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has revealed they’ve resorted to Aimlab to combat the use of Neo Strafe in the game. Neo Strafing has been a big issue within the Apex Legends community, with many players lamenting how accepted it is by the devs. The third-party file allows people to quickly jump in different directions in order to avoid being hit by others in battle. It has gotten to the point that an Apex Legends player has posted about how they created their own program in Aimlab to learn how to fight back. An Apex Legends player is using Aimlab to counter Neo Strafe Posting on the Apex Legends subreddit, the player shares a program in Aimlabs that has been specifically designed to train players to combat Neo Strafing. In the clip, we see them working on aiming at a target dummy that is mimicking the kind of movement seen by someone using Neo Strafing. In essence, Neo Strafe is a third-party configuration that a player installs in their game’s files that will have their character move and jump in different directions in a way that can’t be done with normal key presses. It’s a highly controversial strategy that many people in the Apex Legends community view as a form of cheating, though the devs allow it. This is reflected in many of the comments in the post, in which a majority of them are also expressing anger about the system: “So glad I stopped playing this game,” is something one user responds with, while others use a bit more strong language to discuss it. Another player observes how terrible it is that a casual player would have to practice something like this because the use of Neo Strafe has gotten so bad. There hasn’t been any official word from Respawn on whether or not they plan to come down on the use of Neo Strafe, but it is safe to say that there are many in the community who want it removed ASAP.

Apex Legends player relieved Alter isn’t OP on release – Dexerto
Apex Legends player relieved Alter isn’t OP on release Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have given their early opinions on the game’s newest character, Alter, saying she doesn’t seem overpowered on release. The newest Legend to join the Apex cast, Alter, has been in the game for about a day with Season 21 and players have deemed her quite powerful, but balanced. The Skirmisher Legend has some interesting abilities that can help her and her allies reposition quickly and either start or escape fights thanks to her Ultimate and Tacitical. Both Void Passage and Void Nexus are powerful parts of Alter’s kit that could be considered overpowered if done wrong on the developer’s end. However, Apex Legends players are saying the Legend does not feel over-tuned. “I’ve heard a lot of people saying she’s broken, but I think Respawn has done a good job balancing her. Her tactical is loud, bright, and obvious, and takes a second to actually be able to shoot after using it, and her ultimate, if used right, can be huge, but it also takes time to activate so if used wrong you can die pretty easily,” one player said in a Reddit thread asking for opinions on the Legend. “I was worried she’d be overpowered but no issues killing her so far,” another commenter said. TSM Apex Legends pro Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen gave his early impressions of Season 21 on social media and said he doesn’t see the new Legend taking over the competitive side of the game. “Alter seems like a pub character to me but not a comp character IMO,” the pro said. While players seem to agree on her current power level just a few hours into her release, some pointed out that as people become familiar with her kit, she could become a must-pick Legend in the future. “Right now I think she’s in the same phase as Valk was on release. People are saying she’s good but not meta, well-balanced, or whatever. But I feel very strongly that in 3 – 6 months people will begin to see Alter as a meta, must-pick character much like Valk was 3-6 months after release,” one Reddit user said. Only time will tell if Alter has the potential to skyrocket up the Legends-played statistics as players become more comfortable with her kit. So far, players seem happy to have a balanced character on release and not have to deal with a new OP Legend.

Apex Legends player recreated the Wingman with LEGO and it’s amazing – Dexerto
Apex Legends player recreated the Wingman with LEGO and it’s amazing Respawn Entertainment / LegoAn Apex Legends player has taken the game to the next level by recreating one of the most iconic weapons, the Wingman, out of LEGOs and it’s truly amazing. Apex Legends has tons of customizability that players can make in-game for the ultimate player experience but fans are starting to take that out of the game as well. Respawn Entertainment’s game is constantly being taken to new heights by the community and creative things they come up with. While we’ve seen Apex Legends-related cosplays, songs, and even a real-life loot tick this person created their own Wingman entirely out of LEGOs. Apex Legends player makes Wingman out of LEGOs Redditor ‘asktoby’ replicated one of Apex’s most popular weapons in the game, the Wingman. Not only is this an exact replica but it functions as well. The gun is fully equipped with everything as if it was taken straight out of the game. One of the coolest features comes with its reloading mechanic that also takes inspiration from the BR. The Redditor claimed to have pulled this inspiration from a YouTuber, Nick Brick. He is known for making insane things out of LEGOs such as a GameCube, guns from other games, and the Warthog from Halo. The only thing missing from this Wingman is LEGO bullets to shoot but it doesn’t seem that those will be available anytime soon. While this takes the LEGO theme in real life it could be cool to see Respawn Entertainment partner with the brand and implement a LEGO-style skin as Overwatch has in the past.

Apex Legends player pulls off one in a million Octane clutch – Dexerto
Apex Legends player pulls off one in a million Octane clutch Respawn EntertainmentOctane is still fairly new to Apex Legends but has quickly rose in popularity already, as his abilities have proved to be very useful in the endgame time and time again. However, this unbelievable clutch play might be the best yet. How to unlock Octane in Apex Legends The game’s newest legend, which was added to the battle royale title with the launch of the Season 1 Battle Pass on March 19, can only be unlocked by purchasing it with in-game currency – 12,000 Legend tokens or 750 Apex coins. While many players might have saved their cash and continued to play with the base legends, those who forked out for Octane are starting to see a lot of bang for their buck. A truly one in a million play In fact, one player has been able to use the character to pull off an unbelievable play to win a game, using Octane. In a post to the Apex Legends subreddit, user YearOfTheRisingSun shows an epic play that utterly bamboozled other players into gifting the gamer a victory – and the tactics behind the victory were very simple, too. Read More: Apex Legends pro Dizzy and co. win $25,000 Code Red tournament – recap and final placements – As the circle closes in and players start to become frantic in the latter stages, the player used Octane’s jump pad to pick up a triple kill in the most remarkable of circumstances. The way it played out The clip, above, shows players from the same team rushing towards the zone to stay alive, unaware that the eventual winner, playing as Octane, had planted a jump pad right in the center. So, as they reached the middle to stay alive, three players were spring-boarded not only outside the circle, but right into the water as well – with the tactic eliminating them instantly. “I won the game with a jump pad triple kill after both of my teammates quit!” the user said. “Can’t believe my last ditch effort panned out!” How did it happen? There are a number of factors that make this clip extremely unlikely to happen on a regular basis, so let’s take a look at three things that made this in insane victory come to fruition. Awareness – In the latter stages of a battle royale game, if you can see that you’re going to be the only team reaching the circle, you have to look around and scout out enemies outside the zone. That didn’t happen here as the winner just waited above the action, completely unnoticed. – Direction – Where the jump pad was placed was smart, but it wasn’t its placement alone that caused the win. The final team all came from the east, meaning that as they stepped onto the pad, they continued to move in the same direction and right off the map. Perhaps if they came from the side, they wouldn’t have been eliminated – making this an extremely lucky victory. – High ground – To have the opportunity to have some high ground on your opponents with seconds remaining in the match is a huge bonus for any player. Of course, it was the jump pad that finished it, but having the chance to see everything play out from a distance gave the player the advantage and the results were astonishing. –

Apex Legends player pulls off impossible triple-kill with bare hands – Dexerto
Apex Legends player pulls off impossible triple-kill with bare hands Respawn Entertainment / ParvezishWiping a full squad in Apex Legends is a tall task, but doing it with nothing but your bare fists is a whole new level of achievement. Weapons are obviously a huge part of the Apex Legends experience, and the type of loadout players have early on can really determine how things will play out for them for the rest of the match. However, guns can sometimes be hard to acquire at the very start of the match, and players are forced to defend themselves using nothing but melee attacks. This was the case for Apex Legends player XOnder, who was forced to take on a whole squad without having the luxury of any weapons at his disposal. Read More: All abilities leaked for Jericho Legend – With his two teammates already fully eliminated, he managed to find a way to finesse an enemy team using only his fists and some on-point movement. The sequence started when he engaged in a fist fight with an enemy Mirage, who managed to land a couple of punches but was ultimately knocked down with relative ease. Then came a much more difficult task, taking down that player’s teammate Pathfinder, who did have a weapon at his disposal. Luckily, whoever that was didn’t really have good aim, so a couple of nice slides and well-placed punches had him bamboozled and knocked Read More: Apex devs address weapon auto-switch issues – But before XOnder could fully eliminate him and take the weapon, the third teammate – a Bangalore – showed up, who also happened to have a gun. Unfortunately for that last player, and their entire team, the Bangalore decided to go for a revive instead of engaging the gun-less player, which ended up costing them all dearly at the end. While it’s unlikely that XOnder ended up going on to win the match, considering that the remaining two teammates were out of the game, he still has the boast-worthy story of wiping an enemy squad with his fists. Not to mention the fact that he left the third and final engagement with only a minuscule tick of health left, but it was enough for him to live to tell the tale.

Apex Legends player pulls off heart-stopping escape in Shadowfall LTM – Dexerto
Apex Legends player pulls off heart-stopping escape in Shadowfall LTM The spooky limited-time mode in Apex Legends is nearly coming to an end but that didn’t stop this insane player from risking it all in the pursuit of glory. Released on October 15 as part of the Fight or Fright Collection Event, Respawn Entertainment introduced a brand new, limited-time mode in the form of Shadowfall. Dropping 35 players into a match, players respawn as highly-mobile Shadows that deal increased melee damage to the remaining survivors. A frenetic game mode that encourages an aggressive playstyle, this play might take the cake for the most intense series of events in all of Apex Legends to date. In an October 28 video shared to Reddit, ‘Gh0st96’ highlighted one of the most ridiculous moments in their time playing Apex Legends, aptly titled “I almost sh*t my pants, I present you my greatest escape.” With the Evac Ship set to make its way onto the map in just over 30 seconds, this player had successfully made it through to the final seven players in the lobby yet things were about to take a turn for the worse. Ziplining a great distance in order to approach the landing site of the Evac Ship, a Shadow is quickly eliminated as the background music starts to ramp up. Setting up a new zipline of their own, the player quickly turned their attention to the sky above and noted the abundance of terrifying Shadows flying back down in close proximity. As though it were a scene from an epic horror movie, they somehow managed to avoid nearly all damage while taking down five aggressive enemies in swift succession. Swapping from an SMG to a Shotgun they connected shot after shot despite just how frightening the moment truly was. Sliding away, the player then accidentally missed their first Grappling Hook on the Evac Ship, landing themselves in some tremendously hot water as numerous other Shadows closed in. Just in the nick of time, the second attempt finally connected and the player propelled themselves to safety aboard the ship. Without a doubt one of the most intense endings to a game of Shadowfall yet and with only a few days left before the limited-time mode disappears, it’s going to be difficult to top. Recently a player was hit with some terrible luck while fleeing in Shadowfall, fortunately the game didn’t crash after this tremendous play or it all would have been for naught.

Apex Legends player pulls off a 14 kill game without firing a shot – Dexerto
Apex Legends player pulls off a 14 kill game without firing a shot Respawn EntertainmentIt’s hard enough to win a game of Apex Legends by normal means, but a player by the name of ‘YouGotPunched’ won a game without picking up a gun at all. Apex Legends has a lot of weapons for players to use, and not all of them are great. Something like the Mozambique can get easily out-damaged by other weapons in the game, and hot-dropping into someone who finds a good weapon early can spell disaster. However, a player by the name of ‘YouGotPunched’ won a game using only their fists. No weapon was better than for them than “these hands” – and they showed it. With 14 kills, almost 2400 damage, and a 1v3 against the final squad, this player didn’t just get carried: They were out for blood. Apex Legends player melees their way to a 14 kill game In Apex Legends, movement reigns supreme over most other mechanics. Sure, being able to land shots is important, and knowing how to position is an essential part of staying alive. But, for players who know how to move, running circles around the competition can pave the road to victory. Going melee only in a game like Valorant wouldn’t work no matter how hard someone’s smurfing, but Apex Legends’ suite of movement options, melee is more viable than you’d think. Using Bangalore’s smoke grenades to close the gap, an Apex Legends player managed to get 14 kills with only their fists, some smoke grenades, a few actual grenades, and a whole heap of grit and determination. In this 6 minute long clip, a player by the aptly named ‘YouGotPunched’ ran through the competition without much issue. They dropped hot and threw hands left and right, taking out anyone in their way. However, by the time the game started winding down, the player was left alone. With both their squadmates out of the game, they were left to clutch out a 1v3 – and they did just that. After narrowly escaping the zone and leaving two opponents in the dust, they won the final 1v1 and claimed victory without firing a shot. The default Bangalore skin, punch-themed name, and overall skill level in the lobby make it so that smurfing isn’t out of the question here for this player. However, managing a melee-only win in the way they did is an incredible feat.

Apex Legends player comes up with perfect way to make kills more meaningful – Dexerto
Apex Legends player comes up with perfect way to make kills more meaningful Respawn EntertainmentThe screen that pops up at the end of matches in Apex Legends can certainly be underwhelming, and one player has come up with a great idea involving kills that would spice things up. When all of the members of a squad get fully eliminated in an Apex Legends match, or they grab the victory, the team is taken to a Match Summary screen that recaps each player’s performance. While the screen does show stats like total eliminations, damage dealt, revives, etc… players are of the mind that there is a lot more that could be added to players’ experience at the end of matches. Banners of enemy players killed One very popular idea for an addition to the Match Summary screen, proposed by Reddit user ‘NomNomMonstah,’ is having banners pop up for all of the players that you eliminated throughout the match. The banners would be similar to the ones shown for each teammate, as they would include the enemy player’s name, level, eliminations, damage dealt, etc.. The reason why this idea has gained so much popularity on Reddit is because it would make each elimination more meaningful, allowing players to see what kinds of opposition they took down in that match. This would add to the sense of accomplishment for players, especially if they managed to kill players that were of high rank and skill, or even popular professionals or streamers. Other ideas to improve the Apex Legends experience The same Reddit user also proposed that a kill-cam should be shown for the final kill of each match, which would add as an extra reward for the player(s) who delivered the final blow to win the match. Other additions to improve the Apex Legends experience could be a “Tracker for all wins,” as a way for players to keep track of each of their match victories, and Cosmetic Shards offered as rewards in the Battle Pass. These Shards would allow players to save up and eventually craft a Legendary cosmetic item, while also making the Battle Pass much more rewarding and enjoyable to grind through. With the Apex Legends Reddit and social media pages full of brilliant concepts, ideas, and suggestions such as the one above, the big questions that remains is whether Respawn Entertainment is willing to use some as inspiration for the game moving forward. Considering that they’ve likely learned a lot from their failures with the Season 1 Battle Pass, we could see some of these kinds of proposals implemented in the game at some point down the line.

Apex Legends player outplays an aimbot with excellent use of a grapple – Dexerto
Apex Legends player outplays an aimbot with excellent use of a grapple This Apex Legends player was able to outplay an alleged aimbotter with Pathfinder and smart use of the grappler. Respawn has banned a lot of hackers in Apex Legends since its launch back in February and more and more get the hammer each day. Surprisingly, some of these hackers have complained about not being able to make new accounts after Respawn laid down a hardware ban. As part of the Season 1 patch notes, Respawn mentioned that 499,937 accounts have been banned for cheating, a number that is surely higher by now. Hackers are still a common occurrence in Apex Legends despite the best efforts of the developers, but not all hackers are unstoppable Not all hackers are unstoppable You might remember one speedhacker being unable to control his hacks as he tumbled off the edge of the map and now we have another instance where his aimbot didn’t help him in a fight. Partnered Twitch streamer m0xyy and his squad ran into what appeared to be an aimbotter who quickly mowed down his team. m0xyy went first and watched the action unfold as the hacker quickly disposed of this other teammate before Pathfinder came to the rescue. The Pathfinder is able to grapple around and throw off the aimbot just enough for him to regain the advantage in the fight. He concludes that staying above with the grapple saved him in the fight and as a result saved his team’s life. If you weren’t convinced by the clip the player was using hacks, maybe the fact his name was ‘celuxffkcpw’ might convince you otherwise. How is Respawn combating hackers? As mentioned earlier, close to 500,000 cheaters have been banned at the time of the Season 1 patch and Respawn is still banning more each day. The Season 1 patch introduced a reporting system so now players will be able to quickly report if somebody is hacking. Reports are sent directly to Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) where it’ll then be reviewed. The team says hacking remains a high priority for them but they can’t share specifics of what is being done as of right now. Players on console are able to report other players from the spectate view after dying or when looking at your team’s Banner Cards in the Squad tab.

Apex Legends player outlines “logical” change to improve audio significantly – Dexerto
Apex Legends player outlines “logical” change to improve audio significantly RespawnApex Legends players have outlined the perfect “logical” change to the developers that they think would improve audio significantly. Audio bugs and technical issues have plagued Apex Legends for a while now, and we’ve seen time and time again a wave of new issues that arise with big patches. Following on from the massive Season 15 update, once again, players have noted an influx of audio issues and have suggested to the Respawn devs a “logical” way to improve it significantly. Apex Legends players suggest “logical” audio change In a November 4 Reddit thread, Apex Legends fan almay9 hit out at the pressing audio problems, which have made the game much less enjoyable, before outlining a simple change that would eliminate most issues. “My teammate’s footsteps sound like they’re on top of me at all times, enemies were a mile away sound like they’re also on top of me, yet teammates around the corner no more than 3 to 5 feet generally sound nonexistent,” the player wrote. “Not to mention the text chat features don’t properly work on Xbox, the text shows up the next game instead of the moment you text it… Does that make any sense? Also, one of my teammates generally, can’t hear the rest of the team. “All of these issues are nothing compared to the in-game audio issue around friendly footsteps,” they added. “With that being so significant, wouldn’t just eliminating them altogether (which feels like it should be quite easy on the Programming side) solve such a massive problem?” Others in the thread added their thoughts, most of which agreed with the player. “It’s dumb that your teammates are always louder than the enemy. And it seems like they just keep adding more noise into all the environments that drown out enemy footsteps even more,” one added. “Friendly footsteps used to sound different from enemy footsteps but since the audio update on the heals I’ve noticed they all sound the same,” said another. Season 15 is set to be one of the longest seasons yet in Apex Legends. However, the devs have hinted that the next Season could be the biggest yet, stating that “It’ll be worth it at the end of the rainbow.” Hopefully, we’ll see some major improvements to the game’s audio before then, though it’s rather unlikely.

Confirmed: Apex Legends player officially finds Firing Range easter egg – Dexerto
Confirmed: Apex Legends player officially finds Firing Range easter egg The long hunt for Apex Legends’ easter egg hidden in the Firing Range has finally been found – and a Respawn developer was all too happy to confirm it. Since its February 4 launch, Apex Legends has had various easter eggs spread throughout its battle royale but none have eluded the community so much as the one buried in the practice arena for the game. The search was only fueled by hints from developer Rayme Vinson leading to some players going to extreme lengths to get to the bottom of the easter egg. But it looks like Reddit user ‘Maddazefc’ has cracked the code to activate the easter egg which has eluded many in the community, and it’s actually pretty easy to reproduce. Playing as Pathfinder, players will need to drop their starting weapon and make their way to the far left cave from the starting location. After doing so, players will need to make their way up to the middle of the catwalk shortly after walking into the tunnel. Finally, all it takes is crouching and changing your Legend. If done correctly, players should hear a sound queue and when they go back down to the Firing Range floor they’ll find three AI-controlled bots. There was a lot of scrutiny as to whether this was indeed the easter egg that the Apex community have been looking for, but that was laid to rest when Vinson tweeted a recognition of approval shortly after it was discovered. You crafty bastards. I’m so proud. — Rayme Vinson (@RaymeCVinson) December 4, 2019 The discovery puts to bed the long search that’s been taking place, that’s taken players from outside of the playable borders in the Firing Range to the back-end files for Apex Legends. Some players even found some peace of mind since it explains strange files found in the game. “Ok, so this makes sense as to why there are 3 scripts relating to NPC versions of the L-STAR, Peacekeeper and Hemlok, which all those dummies are using,” user ‘novalue1998’ said. “I thought it was nothing, but turns out it was for this.” With buzz around a Holiday LTM centered around Mirage emerging, Apex Legends easter egg hunters should be on the lookout for a new round of tricks from Respawn.

Apex Legends player nearly dies IRL after stray bullet hits his monitor – Dexerto
Apex Legends player nearly dies IRL after stray bullet hits his monitor Respawn/Twitter/YTMikeCheckAn Apex Legends YouTuber is lucky to be alive after a stray bullet narrowly missed his head and hit his gaming monitor instead. If you’ve ever played a multiplayer game, chances are you’ve been shot at by an enemy at some point, but for YouTuber ‘MikeCheck,’ his game frantic Apex Legends match got a little bit too immersive. In a series of social media posts, the Apex Legends player explained how he was competing in the game when out of nowhere, a stray bullet went through the wall and hit his monitor, destroying it. It was a very close call for MikeCheck, who revealed the bullet was just three inches from his head, and that’s a conservative estimate. YouTuber survives actual gunshot while playing Apex Legends Other photos show where the bullet apparently fragmented after hitting the monitor and went straight through the wall. Unfortunately for the traumatized YouTuber, some players doubted his story, even going as far as to suggest he fired the shots himself for content – something he denies. “After something traumatic like this, I can’t believe people are telling me I did this myself because at the time of posting I forgot to include the pics of entry holes,” he said. “Blaming the victim is wild, especially on their own assumptions. I’m just happy I’m safe.” In a follow-up comment, MikeCheck explained how he doesn’t want to live in that house anymore following the shooting. “I’m still processing it all. I didn’t do a Go Fund Me because I never thought this would go viral and I don’t like the idea of taking sympathy money from people,” he admitted. “I wasn’t gonna even post til a friend said to. I love my setup. Would never do this to myself.” Amazingly, Mike isn’t the first Apex Legends player to have a stray bullet nearly claim their life this year. Back in April, a player’s Razer headset saved his life while in the middle of competing in the popular battle royale.

Passionate Apex Legends player makes perfect case for why the game is NOT dying – Dexerto
Passionate Apex Legends player makes perfect case for why the game is NOT dying Diana Topalian – LoutimgThe prospects of Apex Legends‘ long-term success has come under question over the past few weeks, but one player has come up with a strong case for why the game isn’t dying just yet. When Apex Legends was first released in early-February, many quickly branded it as the next major sensation in the world of online gaming. Taking the battle royale genre by storm, some believed that it would be the first game to truly emerge as a legitimate challenger to Fortnite Battle Royale. However, things haven’t exactly panned out that way since then, as a disappointing Season 1 Battle Pass, lack of consistent updates, failure to rid the game of cheaters, and other factors played in to the game’s popularity plateauing. As a result, many have decided that Apex Legends’ fate is sealed, and that the game is dying and destined for doom. Why Apex Legends is not actually dying With so much negativity surrounding the game on social media recently, Reddit user ‘Kung_Fu_Jedi’ has put up a long post that makes a strong case for why the game is not dying, despite many peoples’ claims that it is. The first point brought up is how far back it is from Fortnite BR in terms of Twitch viewership, which the user has chalked up to being a demographic issue. “There’s simply less adults playing video games than children.,” they wrote. “So when people look at the Twitch numbers to try and gauge where this game is, they’re doing themselves and everyone else a great disservice by not thinking about how the majority of people who watch games on there are also mostly children” The user then brought up the point about how Apex Legends is currently one of the most played games on Xbox, sitting ahead of some very popular and big-name titles. “Apex is sitting at 4th on the most played list on Xbox,” they wrote. “Way ahead of games like Destiny 2, Battlefield V, The Division [2], Overwatch, PUBG, and many others. So if Apex is dying then so are some of the most popular games in the industry.” As for one final comparison with Fortnite BR, the users makes the argument that Respawn Entertainment have decided not to overwork their employees to the levels that Epic Games allegedly have. “We’ve all seen the reports of the crunch time at Epic. Their employees work a ridiculous amount of hours to pump out content as often as they do. And we’ve all seen how Respawn handled this situation, saying that they want their employees to have a life outside of feeding their players with new content every single week.” When is it time for Apex Legends players to worry All that being said, there has to be a point at which Apex Legends fans and players have to begin worrying that their game is slipping way too behind the competition. The Reddit user felt as though players should begin to truly panic if Season 2 and its Battle Pass end up being a failure. “Now is not the time to panic. If season 2 bombs, then, and only then, should the floor be open for discussion on how they could improve a game that everyone loves to complain about. This game doesn’t have to be the most popular thing to ever happen in the history of the universe in order for it to be a success.” You can read the full Reddit post below, or by visiting the user’s page HERE. When will Season 2 launch in Apex Legends? Speaking of Season 2, EA have confirmed that the next Season will be revealed in their upcoming press conference at E3 2019. Although the official release date hasn’t been announced yet, it should happen at some point soon after the first reveal. EA and Respawn have already made some big promises for Season 2, including a better Battle Pass, a new Legend and weapon, and map changes.

Apex Legends player makes absurd bet against NICKMERCS’ solo Ranked future – Dexerto
Apex Legends player makes absurd bet against NICKMERCS’ solo Ranked future Respawn / Twitch: NICKMERCSAn Apex Legends player has placed an absurd bet on NICKMERCS’ solo ‘Bronze to Master’ challenge, shading the streamer in the process. The solo to Master challenge has become a regular sight in the Apex Legends community. Streamers head into the Ranked depths every day and attempt to make it to the game’s highest ranks without an organized team. It’s a good way to get extra game time in, but it’s also a difficult feat, even for the best players in the game. One particular Apex player doesn’t believe that NICKMERCS can complete the challenge, and they’re ready to back up that belief with a left-field bet. Apex Legends player shades NICKMERCS’ solo Ranked challenge Redditor DimesG made a bet on March 25, claiming that there was no way that the streamer could follow through on his challenge. “There is absolutely 0% chance that NICKMERCS makes it past Diamond 3 playing by himself,” they said. “If he can solo queue to Masters, I will literally take a video of myself eating a f**kng sock.” The community reaction to the bet has only added to the entertainment around the challenge. “Either Nick fails to hit masters and greatly entertains us, or he makes it to Master, and OP eats a sock. It’s a win for us either way,” one commenter added. Another player suggested that if the leader of the Tripods does complete the run, DimesG should get hit with a “permanent ban from the subreddit.” These Ranked runs can take a while, so we won’t have a definitive answer on how this saga ends, but there will be fireworks at the finish line either way.

Apex Legends player makes a total banger out of Revenant’s voice lines – Dexerto
Apex Legends player makes a total banger out of Revenant’s voice lines Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends community has been coming out with incredible tributes to new character Revenant, but a track using his in-game voice lines has to be the best one yet. People have jumped on the Synthetic Nightmare’s hype train, with fans making everything from clay figures to incredible custom skins to celebrate the release of the twelfth Legend in the game. While the new character might be one of the more sinister Legends to hit the Apex Games, a new mix retools his menacing sound bites into a classic meme that uses artist S H O K K’s You Reposted In the Wrong Neighborhood as the background track. Spliced together by Apex lore master ‘FrozenFroh,’ the compilation starts off with a nod to the timeless song since the thread is titled “You Respawned In The Wrong Arena” and with Revenant starting off saying “this part never gets old” as the music starts to kick in. The beat drops with a slew of his lines given new meaning played behind a string of highlights featuring the red Simulacrum. Even for Revenant, the song slips into a morbid place at the end with the Legend ‘singing’ his in-game line “why can’t I just die already,” but the entire song was an instant hit with the community. Of course, the song covers the famous line “2 to the 1 to the 1 to the 3,” but again, redone with Revenant emceeing the entire time. Froh was probably aware of the ramifications this track would have with the game’s community, since people are starting to agree that “we require more of these with other legends.” In fact, the track is starting to give players some other ideas that it should be incorporated into Apex Legends: “This is incredible and I want it as my dropping music.” Respawn are known to indulge in the occasional meme or two, so if the track really gets viral, it wouldn’t be a surprise for it to be included in the game at least as an easter egg. For those aware of the infectious meme, it won’t be long before someone else or FrozenFroh themselves adds to the ‘You Respawned In The Wrong Arena’ series with compilations starring the other Legends in Apex.

Apex Legends player hits luckiest Wingman shot of all time: “100% reported” – Dexerto
Apex Legends player hits luckiest Wingman shot of all time: “100% reported” Respawn EntertainmentAn incredible lucky Apex Legends player has demonstrated just how powerful the Wingman high-powered revolver can be, with an insane cross map elimination – that almost certainly got them reported. Apex Legends has received overwhelming praise from the gaming community, and has grown into one of the most dominant forces in the over-saturated battle royale market. However, it has received criticism from many players for a failure to deal with hackers. The player in question, Reddit u/Gnargiela, joked that they will be mistaken for another hacker, following the jaw-dropping clip, as they lined up a wingman shot that even a sniper would be proud of. The Wingman is Apex Legends’ high powered revolver, based on the real-life Desert Eagle. The player was high up on one of Kings Canyon’s many mountainous regions, and spotted a player way off in the distance across the river. The enemy player gets tagged and is barely visible as the player pulls off their ridiculous shot. What makes the shot even more impressive is the fact that the player’s Wingman does not have Skullpiercer Rifling, an attachment which allows for significantly increased headshot damage. Similarly, the Wingman only has a basic Reflex sight on it, making the distance almost unfathomable. The player’s shot is so ridiculous that they joke it will have “100% got me reported”. Other players couldn’t believe what they were seeing, with one commenting that “the way you stand there after makes it clear you were just as amazed as the rest of us”. Apex Legends has only been available since February, but has seen a number of incredible plays, such as this one in a million shot, which forced the streamer in question to respond after others reckoned he might have been hacking. It also seems like there is a whole host of new content on the way to Respawn’s battle royale, with numerous Crypto hints, as well as leaks suggesting ‘Rosie’ is lined up to join the game in the near future. While Respawn is still trying to deal with the hacking problem, through new reporting systems and better monitoring, the problem still persists.

Apex Legends player loses 6 heirlooms because of EA account glitch – Dexerto
Apex Legends player loses 6 heirlooms because of EA account glitch Respawn Entertainment/EADue to an apparent issue with EA accounts, one Apex Legends player has lost all of their in-game items and cosmetics, including 6 heirlooms, after they were asked to sign-in to their account again. If you open Apex Legends after putting hours into it and you’re prompted to sign-in to your account again unexpectedly, you may want to be a bit wary about doing so. It might lead to you losing everything you’ve worked hard or spent money for in the battle royale. An Apex Legends fan has confirmed they did just that: they were prompted to sign-in to their account “in order to make the account more secure” and in the process, lost access to all of their cosmetic items. According to the post, they had spent $2,000 on the game in total, which included 6 heirlooms. While not all is lost, as they were able to keep both their level and rank within the game’s ranked mode, that’s still a ton of items that are now just gone. EA email bug loses all items According to the player, when it prompted them to sign-in to their account again, it unlinked and then relinked their account in the process. The worst part is that this sort of problem might now be new. “All of it is gone and nothing can be done to regain any of the items,” the player explains. “What makes this extra weird is that both of my accounts appear in the club that my friend made. But I can’t access the other account. I have tried dealing with EA Advisors, if that is what you can call them, they will advise you that it was your fault and that there is nothing that you can do about it.” Apex Legends EA account warning Back in February and March 2021, Apex developers began looking into reports of players saying they were losing their items. There’s a card up on the game’s official Trello support page that says that players who unlink and relink their accounts will lose their items, which sounds identical to this problem on face value. The warning reads: “Changing your associated email will cause the loss of cosmetics. Please ensure you aware of this before you change your email. Please contact EA support for any further questions.” The strange part is the need to sign back into the game after playing for so long, resulting in the items being wiped from their account. If this story is true then that’s a major problem that needs to be addressed, especially considering that an EA account is required to play Apex Legends. Respawn have found the cause and solution Respawn has been looking into the issue for quite some time. However, they finally found the cause and solution on April 6. It has something to do with an issue with a database shard, so they’ll be rolling back the servers to fix the problem.

Apex Legends player left infuriated with random teammate – Dexerto
Apex Legends player left infuriated with random teammate An Apex Legends player was left seething after a random teammate exploited their efforts to open up a loot vault in World’s Edge – and the community felt their pain! Respawn Entertainment incorporated a host of changes as part of their Season 3 update. Alongside introducing Crypto, they provided fans with an entirely new map in World’s Edge. With its varied climate, the new map provides enough of a challenge in itself. Sprinkle in some dynamic map elements with geysers and a freight train, alongside the all new ‘loot vault’ feature, and players have had plenty to acclimate as they adjust to life on Solace. However, it is the latter that appears to be providing one player some trouble. Loot vaults introduced a high-risk, high-reward element to Apex Legends. Should players be fortunate enough to find a vault key, it is usually the presence of enemy sabotage that is the prevailing nuisance. Yet one player appeared to learn that trouble can often rise from the inside, as their teammate exploited their efforts in obtaining a vault key. Posted to the Apex Legends subreddit, the player in question unlocks the vault with the containment ring about to close in. However, after unlocking the vault, their Octane promptly enables their Stim ability to navigate the room in quick time. Given the 30% speed boost, the Adrenaline Junkie sprinted ahead and grabbed all of the loot before either Pathfinder or Wraith could get their hands on anything worthwhile. After the player came away empty handed, they vented their frustrations and exclaimed: “I go and get a f**king vault key and you literally come here and take every single item!” Since they were sat on two eliminations, the vault key was likely hard-earned from an encounter earlier in the game. The post received almost 18k upvotes within 24 hours — showing that the community clearly empathized with the Pathfinder’s encounter. As you’d expect, the player was annoyed that their endeavours weren’t rewarded this time. However, given the wholesome MRVN’s array of cheerful quips, they were likely upbeat and ziplining their way around World’s Edge in no time.

Apex Legends player finds bug that makes Lifeline’s drones unbreakable – Dexerto
Apex Legends player finds bug that makes Lifeline’s drones unbreakable Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player discovered a new bug the hard way when Lifeline’s Drone acted indestructible when they tried to shoot through it to get to an enemy, failing miserably. Lifeline has been in Apex since day 1, and has been a go-to legend ever since primarily for her powerful healing abilities. Even though we’ve had well over a year to learn her kit, some bugs are still popping up. We all know the futility of trying to attack a Lifeline’s shield while she rezzes a teammate, but it’s also worth noting that a new bug is turning her healing drone invulnerable, making it impossible to destory. That’s right, while it may be small, with the bug it sure is mighty, though to be fair you don’t often see the Drone being used as cover, because so far it’s been destructible. So, the clip below can really teach us two lessons here: think twice before shooting through the drone, and that Lifelines should think about crouching behind it whenever possible, because you never know, right? In the shot, Reddit user TheChapelOfWhite comes upon the unsuspecting healer and seems to be well on their way to an easy kill. That is until they empty a full clip into the drone, which does nothing but alert the other player and their squad. After that, ChapelOfWhite is unceremoniously cut down by Lifeline’s teammates who appear almost instantly to protect their support. It’s an embarrassing way to go out, that’s for sure, but instead of tossing their controller out the window and swearing off Apex for a few days as some would have done, they instead took to Reddit to post the clip of the apparent glitch. With so many new legends added in between release and where we are now, it’s kind of crazy that this hasn’t happened, or at least been shared before. Lifeline is one of the most popular legends to play as well, so it is a bit wild we’re just now seeing this bug.

Apex Legends player finds ingenious way to instantly “refill” Body Shields – Dexerto
Apex Legends player finds ingenious way to instantly “refill” Body Shields Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends streamer found a brilliant way to recharge their depleted armor, after a close call led to a brilliant highlight that used a bit of trickery to pull off. Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale reinvigorated the genre when it released on February 4, and since then. the community has been mastering all of the obscure mechanics within the game to get the better of their competition. With that in mind, players have been finding shortcuts around the more time-consuming elements, and Reddit user ‘Roonerth’ might have found the most deceptive method of using an enemy to replenish their armor. 600In a Reddit post, the streamer can be seen in an intense face off against a persistent Bloodhound, who brought his Epic Body Shield almost all the way down. Thinking on his feet, Roonerth saw a lowly Common Body Shield in a nearby structure and instantly swapped out the armor. But instead of chasing after the Bloodhound, he paused a moment to wait for the enemy to take the bait. Seeing a purple shield just laying there, the Bloodhound instantly swapped to it but was quickly met with a foot to the face as Roonerth finished off the kill. After collecting the kill, Roonerth went back to purple armor which was now in the Bloodhound’s death box but the Epic Body Shield was now at full health. How did the Body Shield go back to full health? Players were obviously confused at what they had just witnessed since the Body Shield seemed to heal itself. 600But Roonerth provided a simple explanation that put to bed any surrounding questions about the in-game mechanic. “There are really only two scenarios where armor will ‘regenerate’ without the wearer using shield cells, batteries, or pheonix kits to fill them,” Roonerth said. “First, when the wearer dies, the armor they were wearing is fully healed in their deathbox. Second, legendary armor allows the wearer to use a finisher on a downed enemy, which will heal the user’s shields to full…” While its a very situational trick, Roonerth showed that giving opponent’s high tier loot can sometimes be advantageous if pulled off correctly.

Apex Legends player drastically improves Mirage’s Ultimate ability – Dexerto
Apex Legends player drastically improves Mirage’s Ultimate ability Everyone’s favorite trickster has one of the weakest ultimate abilities in Respawn Entertainment’s popular battle royale. However, this dedicated player took it upon themselves to tweak the function and improve Mirage’s Vanishing Act in Apex Legends. Turning invisible sounds like the most powerful ability on paper, yet Mirage’s ultimate often leaves a lot to be desired. While the character does gain a slight speed boost, it can typically be difficult to time the ability just right and navigate to a new position in the short window of invisibility. One crafty member of the Apex Legends community has devised a few new additions to the ultimate that could drastically improve Mirage and give players an even bigger advantage in the midst of combat. Showcased throughout a December 9 video, Reddit user ‘uniworkhorse’ put three new Mirage improvements on display and highlighted how they could assist the Legend. All three are seemingly minor adjustments at first glance, but each of the changes could be tremendously helpful to all Mirage-mains. Firstly, upon activating the invisibility function, a timer will now appear at the top of your screen. Counting down the remainder of the ultimate no different to Bloodhound’s Beast of the Hunt timer, this added function will provide a great deal of clarity when attempting to evade foes online. Read More: Insane third-person Apex Easter egg found The remaining changes are simply visual tweaks that add a little flair to the ultimate and serve to distinguish the ability from anything else in the game. ‘Holo-Hexagons’ spread across the sides of the now blueish screen in order to signify that the ultimate is indeed active, avoiding any form of confusion that could lead to your demise. A recently conducted survey of dedicated Apex Legends players concluded that Mirage was the Legend most in need of a drastic buff. Ultimately, a whopping 91% of those surveyed wanted to see the character improved and not a single player called for a nerd of any kind. Similarly, the latest Apex data also underscored the position of Mirage, indicating that he’s one of the least-picked Legends overall. Only ahead of Crypto, Wattson, and Caustic, Mirage came in with a 4.49% pick-rate making him the eighth most-played character in a small roster of 11. Read More: Apex Legends players angry over SBMM While these ultimate changes might not push Mirage into the forefront of competitive Apex, there’s no denying that the quality of life adjustments could be a massive step in the right direction. Ultimately, this visual overhaul is just one minor adjustment that would come in handy whenever Vanishing Act is enabled. However, there’s no denying that Mirage needs more than just a visual tweak to contest the pick-rate of the most powerful Legends in the game. With Season 4 of Apex Legends fast approaching, perhaps the next major set of balance updates is right around the corner. Evidently a character in a tricky position seeing minimal use across the board, any minor adjustment would come in handy to make Mirage that little bit more powerful.

Apex Legends player honors late friend with incredible Mirage tattoo Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player showed off an incredible Mirage tattoo he got to honor his late friend he played the battle royale with. Though oftentimes seen as simply fun distractions, video games have long had the power to bring people together. Through online gaming, players can create lasting memories with those they spent time with enjoying their favorite hobby together. Now, one Apex Legend player showed that sentiment off perfectly through an amazing tattoo they got in honor of their late friend. Apex Legends Mirage tribute tattoo The tattoo comes from Reddit user goodrthenyou who posted a heartfelt caption along with the photo of their tattoo. The caption reads, “I got an Apex tattoo yesterday for one of my best friends who passed away last year from a seizure. Mirage was his main, Show Stopper was his skin, and “Nice McDice” was his catch phrase when we got a down or knock. I miss you Derek. I love you homie.” The tattoo features a rendition of Mirage’s iconic Show Stopper Legendary skin with the phrase “Nice McDice” framing the portrait. The original poster goes on to give a bit of background on the tattoo, explaining that he “had no idea how crucial this simple video game would become” in his life. He told the community that he had played “almost every day with Taylor and Derek since release and it really formed a solid connection with us three as friends.” “October 5th, 2021 was the last time we ever got to play with Derek. He passed away unexpectedly that night and it honestly wrecked us.” In just one day, the post garnered over 11,000 likes with over 200 comments from other Apex Legends players complimenting the tribute tattoo and offering condolences. While this post serves as a powerful testament to how video games can bring people together to create lasting bonds, it also serves as a reminder to always hold those dear to us closely.

Apex Legends player highlights major balancing issues with Passive Abilities – Dexerto
Apex Legends player highlights major balancing issues with Passive Abilities Respawn EntertainmentA disgruntled Apex Legends player has outlined the game’s issues with Passive Abilities – highlighting just how big the discrepancies between some Legends’ capabilities are. Apex Legends, like a number of FPS games of recent years, has incorporated unique abilities and gadgets to distinguish its characters from one another. Each Legend comes with a Passive Ability, Tactical Ability, and Ultimate Ability. The latter two both come with ‘cooldowns’, meaning players can only call on them sporadically. Passive Abilities, though, are abilities that do not need to be summoned or earned and are always active whilst playing as any particular legend. Fuse, for example, boasts the Grenadier Passive, meaning he can always stack an extra grenade and throw them further and faster. In a January 1 Reddit post, player ‘isijavawi‘ outlined what they consider to be the “problem with Apex Legends balancing”. Attached was an image describing the Passives of Valkyrie, Revenant, Pathfinder, and Crypto, seeking to highlight how unbalanced they are. On Valkyrie, the player says: “[Her] Passive allows her to fly to the top of any building or high place. Also [she] can scan almost an entire POI passively by flying.” They summarise her as having one of the most oppressive Passives in the game. In contrast, they point out that Revenant’s Passive can actually make him easier for enemies to hit, whilst Crypto’s Passive simply emulates part of what his tactical ability does. They also point to Pathfinder, suggesting that his Insider Knowledge Passive – which actually just reduces his Ultimate cooldown – is not an ability at all. Plenty of other players echoed the concerns, with the post sitting at over 2,400 upvotes at the time of writing. One fan echoed the issues Revenant has climbing uneven walls, despite recent buffs his abilities received. These problems are particularly relevant on the Season 11 map Storm Point, which has plenty of rocky surfaces for Revenant to scale. Whilst Passive Abilities are not the only balancing factors in Apex, the ones with worse abilities do tend towards the lower tiers and pick rates. It’s on Respawn to make any changes they deem fit.
