Leaked Fortnite skins and cosmetics found in the V6.10 update files – Names and Rarities – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite skins and cosmetics found in the V6.10 update files – Names and Rarities It never takes long for data miners to begin leaking content after a new Fortnite update, and this was once again the case for the October 16 V6.10 patch. The latest update was a significant one, introducing an all-new vehicle, called the Quadcrasher, and adding an ‘Events’ tab for in-game tournaments and competitions. The patch also vaulted the Port-a-Fortress and changed the drop rate of the Port-a-Fort, but fans will be more interested to see the leaked skins and cosmetics that the well known data mining account known as @TwoEpicBuddies has released. The leak doesn’t include as many outfits as previous ones have, but they all promise to be popular with gamers. There are also some cool new pickaxes, gliders, and shields, most of which seem to fit in with one of the skins: Arachne (Legendary) Weave a web to victory The official Fortnite 2018 Christmas jumpers have been announcedYou can find out more about the V6.10 update and everything that it changed by visiting our patch notes article here.

Leaked Fortnite skins and cosmetic items from v9.20 update – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite skins and cosmetic items from v9.20 update The v9.20 update for v9.20 update introduces Storm Flip, a brand new item that creates a safe zone when thrown inside of the storm, or brings the power of the storm to unaffected locations when tossed outside of it. As always, Epic Games have also added a number of new cosmetic items to the game, which players can purchase and use to make their characters stand out while playing the popular battle royale title. The developers often add a plethora of cosmetics in each major update, but these are hidden away inside the patch files, with fans of the game not supposed to see them until they are made available in the game’s Item Shop. For those who love cosmetic items, the good news is that data miners can extract these items before they are made public, giving Fortnite fans a sneak peek at what they can expect to see before Epic Games makes them live. However, just because Epic Games have added a cosmetic item to the game’s files doesn’t guarantee we will definitely see it in the future, as the developers have been known to include skins that are never made available to the public. This week’s update includes a ton of new skins, back bling and harvesting tools, alongside some new music packs and a couple weapon wraps. Thanks to @HYPEX and @xkleinmikex for these leaks. Leaked Fortnite skins and cosmetic items from v9.40 update – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite skins and cosmetic items from v9.40 update Epic GamesThe v9.40 update for v9.40 update included two brand-new variants of the Tactical Shotgun, alongside a host of bug fixes and weapon balancing changes that they hope will provide a more balanced playing experience for fans. Also included in the v9.40 update files were cosmetic items, added by Epic Games, which will eventually be added to the in-game store and made available to purchase by players who want to switch up their look. Cosmetic items are added to the game in one batch, and hidden away inside the files so that players can’t see them before Epic decides to put them live. This is rarely the case though, with data miners searching through the update files the moment they are released, looking for new skins that players could be rocking in a few days As always, just because Epic have added a cosmetic into the game’s files doesn’t mean we are guaranteed to ever be able to purchase it, as they have added skins to Fortnite in the past that have never been officially released. After weeks of content updates, the v9.30 update includes a host of brand new cosmetic items, and you can take a look at them all below. Leaked Fortnite skin could be teasing a major Season 2 storyline – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite skin could be teasing a major Season 2 storyline Epic GamesFortnite’s current season could be set for a major shakeup as a newly leaked skin may be hinting at upcoming storylines – potentially even a third faction to compete with Ghost and Shadow. Storytelling in Fortnite has long been a slow burn. Epic Games often drop subtle teasers as a seasonal storyline builds towards a major climax. These season-ending storylines typically lead smoothly into the following act. Season two of Fortnite’s second chapter has been no different. From the weekly Deadpool hints to the longstanding battle between the Ghost and Shadow factions. The latest cosmetic leak has the Fortnite community going back and forth as to whether it could be teasing a massive storyline development. An overview of the new Fortnite leak. Following Fortnite’s latest update, prominent data miner ‘FortTory’ uncovered a brand new skin in the game’s files referred to as ‘Spy.’ The character appears as a stylish operative fit with an earpiece and plenty of weapon holsters. With his hands behind his back, the figure looks confident and all but ready for whatever action comes his way. Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of the cosmetic, however, is the leaked character comes with a brand new logo on his right shoulder. A silver emblem is dropped onto a black patch with golden trimming to complete the unique look. There is a skin in the files named ‘Spy’ It has some relations to the NPC’s, could this turn out to be a NPC that will be located to an POI like the other NPC’s or will we see it somewhere else, perhaps in the lobby or just as a skin? Also, we haven’t seen that logo before…. pic.twitter.com/TQzwV3voAg — FortTory – Fortnite leaks & news (@FortTory) April 5, 2020 Could this leak be teasing the future of Fortnite? While the leaked cosmetic could be nothing more than an upcoming skin, there might be more to it than meets the eye. The dataminer questioned whether the skin would be usable, or if the character would purely just appear as an NPC at a Point of Interest. Perhaps even just a new addition to the main menu for instance. Others have theorized the new logo could be teasing a third, secretive faction joining the seasonal battle. Perhaps to overthrow Ghost or Shadow, or even to take them both down? There are plenty of possibilities if this leak proves to be more than just a new cosmetic. There’s no indicating when the leak may see the light of day on the live version of the game. Only a few weeks remain until the end of season two, however. The narrative should be pushed along soon given how close we are to season three. In the meantime, here’s a rundown on everything you need to know to prepare for Season 3, including the release date, and more.

Leaked Fortnite Season 3 icon hints at completely flooded island – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite Season 3 icon hints at completely flooded island Epic Games / PS StoreEpic Games’ plans for Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 3 has been leaked ahead of schedule, with a teaser appearing on the PlayStation Store. Just like the previous major update, Season 3 was postponed by the developers who officially confirmed that the release date wouldn’t be at the start of June, but instead on June 11. Members of the game’s community have been waiting for quite some time for information on the next patch, with leakers and data miners suggesting that a complete map flood might be in the works, and finally it appears that we have gotten an answer. The fate of the island looks to have been thrown in the air by a leaked image, which surfaced on the PlayStation Store on June 1. The image, which hasn’t yet been sent out or confirmed by Epic Games, shows the Battle Bus hovering mightily close to the water – with the island in the background, completely covered by water. Previous leaks suggested that this was going to be the case, although players are still waiting for official confirmation. As seen in the screenshot below, the icon has been spotted on the PS Store. The icon itself is also being shared on social media by several Fortnite leakers, such as Fort Tory and FNBRLeaks. Playstation leaked the new Icon for the New Fortnite Season ! pic.twitter.com/Z7PBBgnkyD — FortTory – Fortnite leaks & news (@FortTory) June 1, 2020 Fortnite & Spongebob crossover? With the island in the background looking like something from Spongebob Squarepants, it would be easy to think a Bikini Bottom crossover might be in the works. However, FNBR has seemingly shut down those theories by showing the island from the icon has featured in trailers before. https://twitter.com/FNBRLeaks/status/1267391656720031745 We still await official confirmation on the leaked icon, never mind the rumored crossover, but as soon as new information is made available to us we’ll be the first to let you know! If there is a severe map change like this coming soon, all eyes turn to the Doomsday event planned to end Season 2, because things are going to have to get a little messy in the near future if this is going to happen.

Leaked Fortnite Season 2 Week 5 & 6 Deadpool challenges Epic GamesSeason 2’s Deadpool challenges in Fortnite have leaked ahead of time for Week 5 and Week 6, giving you an early heads up on what to expect. Deadpool’s antics have been an underlying theme throughout Season 2 of Fortnite, with the whimsical anti-hero providing players with all sorts of new tasks to complete in-game as the Chapter 2 weeks go by. The Fortnite community has plenty to tackle with each weekly update, however, you can now get the jump on objectives for Week 5 and Week 6 thanks to new leaks. The fresh challenges being introduced through the March 20 update will see players searching for Deadpool’s treasured belongings, as well as taking in some new sights. Due to leaks provided by Fortnite dataminer ‘iFireMonkey,’ here’s an early heads up on what to expect. Firstly, you’ll have to find Deadpool’s stuffed unicorn hidden somewhere in the battle royale map, then you need to “embrace the rainbow” by traveling to four uniquely colored steel bridges. Completing either of these tasks will net you a unique loading screen option and completing both will set you up perfectly for the Week 6 challenges. Fortnite Season 2 leak reveals upcoming Risky Reels LTM – Dexerto
Fortnite Season 2 leak reveals upcoming Risky Reels LTM Epic GamesDataminers sifting through Fortnite’s April 8 maintenance patch have discovered some leaked Limited-Time Mode files that reveal a major event is coming to Risky Reels in the near future. Fortnite has received plenty of updates during its second season of Chapter 2, and while the April 8 update focused more on the nitty-gritty behind-the-scenes things that keep the popular battle royale running smoothly. Of course, that didn’t stop dataminers from searching through the game’s files to see if they had found anything new and exciting, and leaker FortTory has discovered some new files directly related to an LTM that is set to launch in the game in the near future. Discovered in the datafiles is a new event that’s set to take over Risky Reels, and is likely the reason that Epic Games have been testing the movie screen at the location of the past weeks. The event is called “Now Playing,” and according to the description, will feature screenings of Punk’d, a show where Ashton Kutcher would prank other celebrities, with Justin Bieber and then a number of other stars also acting as hosts until the show finished airing in 2015. In 2020, it was announced that Chance The Rapper would be fronting a rebooted version of the show on mobile video platform Quibi, but it appears it will also be airing inside Fortnite too. The description reads: “Just want to Risky & Chill? Hang out in Now Playing to catch the hourly screenings of Punk’d. Top of the hour, every hour,” although there’s no confirmation if it will just be one episode that is shown, or the entire series. something got added: a new sort of LTM. “Now Playing” ”Just want to Risky & Chill? Hang out in Now Playing to catch the hourly screenings of Punk’d. Top of the hour, every hour.” — FortTory – Fortnite Leaks & News (@FortTory) April 8, 2020 For those looking forward to the event, there is currently no official start date for the Risky Reels Punk’d showings to start, but with the details now in the game, it seems that it won’t be far away. Of course, these are just leaks, so while Epic may have gone to the effort of adding them in, things don’t always get used in the game, so don’t be shocked if we never see the shows.

Leaked Fortnite Season 2 Week 4 TNTina’s Trial challenges – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite Season 2 Week 4 TNTina’s Trial challenges Epic GamesThe next round of Fortnite challenges for Season 2, Week 4 have been leaked ahead of schedule – with TNTina remaining as the focus. With the Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 2 update giving the battle royale a Top Secret-themed overhaul, much of the focus has been put on the five named bosses that have appeared in-game. Brutus, Midas, Meowscles, Skye, and TNTina all have their own respective areas on the game’s map – as well as their own unique weapons – but their names are also being used for the weekly challenges that players can complete to rack up huge amounts of XP. We’ve already seen Brutus’ Briefings in weeks one and two, with TNTina’s Trial taking over in week three. Though, as we approach week four, a brand new set of quests have been leaked by iFireMonkey. Continuing the TNTina’s Trial storyline, players are tasked with the usual challenges – explore different areas, deal damage to enemies, and search chests – but the explosive theme continues. For example, there are challenges to go fishing with explosives, and destroy enemy structures with Proximity Mines or Remote Explosives. Fortnite TNTina Week 4 Challenges Search chests at Pleasant Park or Slurpy Swamp – 10 – Destroy opponent structures with Proximity Mine or Remote Explosives – 20 – Fish with Explosives – 3 – Eliminate players at The Agency or Sweaty Sands – 5 – Search ammo boxes in different named locations – 7 – Use Decoy Grenades – 5 – Deal Damage to players while riding in a motorboat – 200 – Scan a Henchman in different matches – 3 – Visit Grumpy Greens, Mowdown, and Risky Reels – 1 – Collect different Boss Weapons – 3 – Each of the TNTina challenges is worth a humongous 40,000 XP, so players can get a pretty nice boost for their battle passes if you tick them all off. In addition to those, there are also Deadpool challenges, though they don’t offer XP rewards. Instead, players will need to find the Marvel character’s iconic katanas and deal damage to enemy structures. Completing one of these two challenges will unlock the katanas as a backbling. Fortnite Deadpool Week 4 Challenges Find Deadpool’s katanas – 2 – Deal damage to opponent structures – 10,000 – With each agent only having two weeks of challenges each, it won’t be long before TNTina is cycled out and the next set are added in. Who the focus will shift to next remains to be seen but, as for now, you may as well hop onto the battle bus and claim some of the XP that is on offer.

Fortnite: Kevin the Cube returns in leaked Season 10 Week 5 & 6 loading screens – Dexerto
Fortnite: Kevin the Cube returns in leaked Season 10 Week 5 & 6 loading screens Epic GamesTwo new loading screens for Fortnite Season 10 have been found by data miners, for Week 5 and Week 6, and they reveal the return of everyone’s favorite Kevin the Cube. The v10.20 update went live in Fortnite on August 27, with the Rift Beacon at Paradise Palms turning it into the Pandora Rift Zone, at least temporarily. So far, Rift Zones have transformed Tilted Towers and Mega Mall too, and it looks like next we will have the return of Kevin the Cube and his island. The new Borderlands location added to Fortnite. For Season 10, the loading screens are unlocked by completing any three of that week’s missions, and there are some very intriguing designs for weeks 5 and 6. Leaker PXLPAT was able to get their hands on the loading screens from the game files shortly after the v10.20 update went live. It’s not certain which order the loading screens will be released, but it looks like for Week 5, this nuclear symbol could be used. What could this nuclear symbol mean? However, it is the next loading screen that immediately caught players’ attention, as it features Kevin the Cube and the return of Loot Lake island. Kevin the Cube is set to officially make a return in Season 10. Other leakers have since found that the next Rift Beacon is above the Loot Lake island. These Rift Beacons have been responsible for the major map changes at Tilted Towers, Mega Mall and Paradise Palms already in Season 10. The Next Rift Zone will be the Loot Lake Island! #Fortnite pic.twitter.com/CqfJC8BGmo — Fortnite News :goat: (@FNBRHQ) August 27, 2019 Leaker FortTory has even managed to get a look at the island in-game, complete with Kevin the Cube underneath. Leaked Fortnite Red Strike Starter Pack revealed – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite Red Strike Starter Pack revealed Epic GamesFortnite Season X is set to introduce a new Starter Pack called “Red Strike” according to several leakers and a first look has been revealed. Starter Packs are a good way for Fortnite players to spend a couple of dollars to get access to new cosmetics and a small amount of V-Bucks. These packs generally cost no more than $4.99 so they’re an excellent choice for many players who don’t like to spend a whole lot of money on the game. FNBRLeaks gave us our first look at the style of the new skin. In-Game Image of the Skin featured in the Upcoming “”Red Strike Pack”” pic.twitter.com/HrJtpvGidv — Fortnite: Battle Royale Leaks (@FNBRLeaks) August 11, 2019 While we know what it looks like, we don’t know exactly what’s included in the pack, at least we didn’t until Shiina revealed it. According to another leak, this pack will include an outfit, back bling, and 600 V-Bucks. It doesn’t sound like a harvesting tool will be included this time around which might be a bit disappointing. “Silence your foes with the Red Strike Pack. An outfit, a back bling and 600 V-Bucks!” There will be a new Starter Pack very soon! It’s called “”Red Strike Pack”” and contains an Outfit, a Back Bling & 600 V-Bucks! Description: “”Silence your foes with the Red Strike Pack. An outfit, a back bling and 600 V-Bucks!”” pic.twitter.com/H3HAWgrfz5 — ShiinaBR – Fortnite Leaks (@ShiinaBR) August 11, 2019 One thing that wasn’t mentioned was the price but it should cost the same as any other pack before it. We don’t yet know when the pack will release but considering it’s already in the files, it won’t be unavailable for long. It will join the long list of Starter Packs that have already been released into the game. If we had to guess, the pack would become available with patch 10.10. Epic Games hasn’t reveal the start time for that update but we know it’ll be before August 16, at the absolute latest. Patches usually come through in the middle of the week so Friday or beyond would be a strange move from Epic. On top of the Starter Pack, we can probably expect some other new content such as a weapon or location. The theme of this season has been time travel with the return of Dusty Depot and now Tilted Town, so it’ll be interesting to see what Epic cooks up next.

Leaked Fortnite Season 10 challenges hint at return of Greasy Grove, Tomato Town, and more – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite Season 10 challenges hint at return of Greasy Grove, Tomato Town, and more Fortnite Season X brought back Dusty Depot and it looks like that’s not all as a set of leaked challenges revealed other POIs possibly making a return such as Tomato Town, Greasy Grove, Risky Reels, and more. Leaked challenges are nothing new in Fortnite but this time they are hinting at something much bigger as many fan-favorite points of interest appear to be making a comeback. If you’re waiting for a return of Season 3, like the OG you are, then you’ll love what these challenges are hinting at, since nearly everyone location could be making an appearance once again. According to well-known Fortnite leaker HYPEX, challenges that require you to spray vehicles in certain locations will bring you back to previous locations that have since left the game. Read More: Epic Games hint at Fortnite BRUTE nerf – Bringing old locations back fits perfectly with the theme of this new season as we’ve already seen Dusty Depot come back and Neo Tilted transform into something from the 1800s. There’s no telling for certain when these locations would come back and if they will be permanent when they do. Epic Games might be appealing to long-time players who have grown nostalgic for the old locations. Tilted Town came into the game in a special bubble so it’s possible the other ones could be introduced in the same way. New challenge was added in season 10 called “”Quest_BR_SprayVehicles_DifferentLocation”” it’s a placeholder i think, and in it it has all the POIs where you need to spray, GUESS WHAT, me & @xkleinmikex found these!!! (Also flush factory & tomato town) pic.twitter.com/jiP8vPO9j3 — HYPEX – Fortnite Leaks & News (@HYPEX) August 6, 2019 So far we have Tomato Town, Greasy Grove, Risky Reels, Flush Factory, Moisty Mire and Anarchy Acres all set for a return at some point during this season. This would mean some of the locations that are currently in the game would have to be replaced, which might indicate some popular spots will disappear. All of this information has come from leaks so far so it’s too early to tell for certain if any of this will happen. Until we have official word from Epic Games, take this with a grain of salt. HYPEX has been on the money in the past but better to be safe than sorry.

Leaked Fortnite LTM adds respawns and automatically increases loot rarity – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite LTM adds respawns and automatically increases loot rarity Epic GamesIf you’ve been wanting a new exciting Fortnite LTM to jump into, it seems like you’re in luck, as a brand-new leak has revealed an interesting new LTM called Comeback which will add in a select number of respawns to the mode, as well as an automatically increasing rarity for your loot. New limited-time modes in Fortnite are usually a good time. They give players a break from the standard modes while also keeping them within the game, retaining that player base. Now, it seems like another brand new LTM is coming to the game in the near future, if some recent leaks are to be believed. According to a few reputable Fortnite leakers, a new mode called Comeback will be added at some point in the near future and, although a release date is a bit vague, it sounds pretty unique, especially when you compare it to other modes. What is Fortnite Comeback LTM? New LTM: • Comeback (Solo, Duos, Squads, Trios) • Every player has 5 lives. Each respawn, loot increases in rarity. Gain health from kills and Supply Drops.— VastBlast (@VastBlast) February 16, 2021 According to leaker VastBlast on Twitter, the new mode is set to be available in Solos, Duos, Trios, and Squads, meaning it’ll more than likely act like a similar to a regular battle royale mode, rather than a large scale assault like 50v50 Team Rumble or something like that. Comeback players will have five lives/respawns that they’ll be able to utilize during their time on the island, so if you get taken out, you’ll be able to come right back. In addition, with every single respawn, your loot will increase in rarity. This is presumably done in order to give players an increasing chance of survival, since the higher rarities do more damage. One final aspect mentioned is that players will be able to earn health by getting kills and opening supply drops. It’s unclear whether or not these will be the ONLY methods to earn kills, but it certainly seems like it. When will Fortnite Comeback LTM be available? New LTM: Comeback All the loot starts as Common in this mode and increases one step on each Respawn. With 5 lives and better loot at your disposal, can you make a Comeback? — iFireMonkey (@iFireMonkey) February 16, 2021 Unfortunately, we have no idea when the Comeback LTM will be added to the game. While some outlets mentioned that it will arrive with the 15.40 update, it hasn’t appeared yet and we have no official confirmation of its release as of the time of this writing. While the mode was datamined as a part of the 15.40 update, Air Royale is available right now, while Floor is Lava is coming in the next few days, so it’s possible that it ends up getting delayed past the update, possibly even to Season 6. Of course, this is all pure speculation and could still come very soon.

Leaked Fortnite loading screens for Week 7 and 8 make the Ice King look seriously evil – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite loading screens for Week 7 and 8 make the Ice King look seriously evil For the first time in a number of weeks, Fortnite data miners managed to gain access to the game’s new files on January 15 and were quick to begin leaking upcoming content. The v7.20 update for Fortnite Battle Royale introduced a number of major changes, including a new take on the Glider Redeploy system and an all-new ‘Scoped Revolver’. However, data miners like @lucas7yoshi_ on Twitter were more concerned with finding what is coming next, and it didn’t take long for the Week 7 and 8 Snowfall challenge loading screens to be leaked. Both of the loading screens, which will link in directly with the ongoing Season 7 Snowfall challenges, focus heavily on the Ice King – the tier 100 Battle Pass skin for Season 7. First, the Week 7 loading screen shows the mysterious character sitting upon his throne in Polar Peak, clutching the armrests. We don’t know about you, but we’re not getting a friendly feel from this one! You can visit our secret Fortnite Battle Star for the Week 7, Season 7 Snowfall challenge guide if you want to know more about this loading screen. If the Week 7 screen isn’t enough to convince you that the Ice King has some bad intentions, perhaps the Week 8 one will. Read More: Fortnite update v7.20 – Scoped Revolver, Glider Redeploy item, One Shot LTM and patch notes – As you can see below, the Ice King is now show looking over the Fortnite map while he appears to be holding a ball of energy or ice in his hand, ready to strike. These loading screens are some of the earliest signs that Season 7’s story is beginning to move along towards its inevitable conclusion that will come when Season 8 begins in February. Right now, the educated guess would be that the Ice King is going to be up to some serious mischief over the remaining weeks. And let’s not forget, we still don’t know what he’s hiding in those eggs under Polar Peak…

Leaked Fortnite loading screens for Week 1 and 2 of Season 8’s Discovery challenge – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite loading screens for Week 1 and 2 of Season 8’s Discovery challenge As is always the case after a major Fortnite update, data miners have been hard at work finding things in the V8.0 patch files. The V8.00 update, which was released February 28, included a number of significant changes to the game, most notably a host of changes to the North East corner of the map, including the removal of the long-standing point of interest, Wailing Woods. It also marked the start of Season 8, with the Season 8 Battle Pass and first set of weekly challenges now being live in-game and available for all players. As has been the case for previous seasons, the Week 1 and 2 loading screens have been leaked by data miners. The Week 1 loading screen, shown above, should be unlocked when you complete all seven of the first week’s challenges. Read More: New Fortnite Hamster Ball vehicle leaked – It seems that there will bonus challenges called ‘Discovery challenges’ linked to the weekly loading screens (like the Hunting Party challenges for Season 6 or Snowfall challenges for Season 7). The second loading screen, which seems to show an internal perspective of the new volcano, has also been leaked and can be seen below: On first inspection, a Battle Star can be seen in the first loading screen and a Banner is in the second. This would suggest that Season 8 will continue with the pattern from Season 7 where a secret Battle Star can be found one week and a hidden Banner the next. What do you make of the loading screens? Can you see any more clues related to the potential bonus challenge?

Leaked Fortnite image shows entire map covered in snow – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite image shows entire map covered in snow A new data mine of the Fortnite game files has revealed that a full-snow version of the current Battle Royale may be in the works and released during the holiday season. Fans have already been treated to plenty of holiday cheer in-game with the addition of the snow biome to the south-west. Christmas-themed player skins and weapon wraps have also been added since the release of Fortnite Season 7 on December 6. As time has gone on there have been changes to the snowy part of the map with Polar Peak slowly melting away to reveal a castle. However, it doesn’t appear as if the rest of the snow is going to be melting just yet. New datamined leaks from Twitter user and known Fortnite leaker FortTroy have shown that a fully-fledged snow version of the map may be in the works. At the minute, only the south-west corner of the map is covered by the wintery weather but this new map, named Athena Snow, shows the full map covered in snow – including the current desert biome to the south-east. ATHENA SNOW! FULL SNOW MAP COMING SOON! pic.twitter.com/iwmdthMpFG— FortTory – Fortnite Leaks & News (@FortTory) December 18, 2018 Whilst this new map is not confirmed, plenty of recent datamined files and leaks have been introduced to the game. Read More: Fortnite: Polar Peak melts to reveal Ice King’s castle and throne room in v7.10 map changes – The recently-vaulted Infinity Blade had been datamined by leakers and suspected to be a limited time mode before its introduction into the battle royale mode. While the leaks may have been just slightly off base with that, there’s a chance we could see this become reality in the near future.

Leaked Fortnite footage shows Tilted Towers and Wailing Woods destroyed in Season 8 – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite footage shows Tilted Towers and Wailing Woods destroyed in Season 8 Epic GamesThe Fortnite landscape has been experiencing strange seismic movements and a new leak offered the best look yet at what might be coming to the battle royale’s island. It’s no secret that a major storyline is on the way for Season 8, as numerous cracks in the game’s map signal a devastating event to come. But it looks like players now have a glimpse of what the aftermath might hold. Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR showed a video of what looks to be a charred Wailing Woods and Tilted Towers’ recently completed building destroyed. Footage of how Wailing Woods will look in a few days! Also I put footage of the Tilted Towers Building at the end. The Building itself is missing which should confirm to 100% that the Building will be destroyed again. (Thanks to @ImAlfieXd! He made this video possible.) pic.twitter.com/21smniKEOA — ShiinaBR – Fortnite Leaks (@ShiinaBR) February 15, 2019 According to the leak, Wailing Woods is going to be more depressing than usual as all the life and greenery has faded and basically died out. Fan speculation points to the Prisoner having something to do with the discoloration of Wailing Woods. Epic Games are already teasing that the fourth stage to the Prisoner’s appearance will set him ablaze, and the ritual might have a residual effect on the point of interest. Minimap pic.twitter.com/2fdBGcDyKI — Lucas7yoshi_ // Fortnite BR News & Leaks (@lucas7yoshi_) February 14, 2019 An updated map found by leaker Lucas7Yoshi appears to hint that something affecting the surrounding areas will be spreading from Wailing Woods in the near future. Unfortunately, fans hoping to bask in a completed Tilted Towers will have to hold out for another season, as more destruction will hold the location from being pristine First look at the Tilted Towers building, which will soon be destroyed again. (Ignore that this building is in the desert in this picture, it will stay in Tilted Towers. lol) (via @MakksBR) pic.twitter.com/4atc3WVV49 — ShiinaBR – Fortnite Leaks (@ShiinaBR) February 15, 2019 The leaks show the briefly completed building now in shambles. It’s unknown if the Prisoner will have a direct effect on the building or if it will be due to collateral damage from the quakes. Although obviously not the final stage of the destruction, the brief images of the updated points of interest tease another calamitous era to come in Fortnite.

Leaked Fortnite gameplay footage teases release of Driftboard vehicle and Driftin’ LTM – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite gameplay footage teases release of Driftboard vehicle and Driftin’ LTM Fortnite Battle Royale players have finally been given a glimpse of the unreleased and long awaited Driftboard vehicle in action. Data miners have dug up and leaked gameplay footage showing how the new Driftboard will work once it’s added into Fortnite. As seen in the announcement of the vehicle, the Driftboard is futuristic looking and features a light and dark blue color scheme along with yellow footholds. It looks very much like a standard snowboard, except for the fact that it hovers about a foot above the ground at all times and can be used to efficiently zip around the map. A video showing the Driftboard in action can be seen below, courtesy of prominent data miner @JH9 on Instagram. There are several things to note about the Driftboard from the gameplay footage shown above. It’s got several neat features to it, such as a speed boost that allows players to rapidly accelerate when riding. Players can use that speed boost and ride off of hillsides to get themselves in the air, at which point they can then perform aerial tricks that will get them points, very much like the Quadcrasher. It also appears that players will be able to use their weapons while riding the Driftboard, making it the only vehicle that players will be able to shoot from while riding alone. As for when the Driftboard will make its debut in Fortnite, that remains to be seen, but the leaks indicate that it will be added via a Limited Time Mode called Driftin’. Here is the official description of the LTM as can be seen in the leaked in-game image of it below: “Land near a Red Supply Drop, grab a Driftboard and some weapons, meet up with your team and race to eliminate the enemies.” It’s unclear at this point whether the Driftboard will be available only in this LTM or if it will ultimately be added into the core default modes as well.

Leaked Fortnite gameplay of new Heavy AR reveals how overpowered it is – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite gameplay of new Heavy AR reveals how overpowered it is In-game footage of Fortnite’s newly leaked Heavy Assault Rifle has surfaced, and it shows that the new weapon is devastatingly overpowered. Two new weapons were leaked to be coming soon in Fortnite following the recently-released v11.20 update – the Heavy Assault Rifle and its longer-ranged counterpart Scoped AR. Resembling the AK-47 in both its appearance and function, the Heavy AR has been in Fortnite before, debuting in Season 6 before being removed at the start of Chapter 2. The gun was never considered to be overpowered, hence why it was never vaulted. However, the leaked Chapter 2 version could play a totally different tune, especially since leaks indicate that there will both Epic and Legendary variants. Here is some leaked in-game footage of the Heavy AR being used in Fortnite’s Creative mode, courtesy of prominent data-miner HYPEX. Here’s the Leaked Legendary AK’s gameplay! (Thanks to @TKroggyOfficial For inviting me to his island to try it.) [LEGENDARY] Damage is 46, Headshot is 92.. [EPIC] Damage is 44, Headshot is 88.. pic.twitter.com/oHkvt7RlHd— HYPEX (@HYPEX) November 21, 2019 Damage stats of the new Heavy AR According to the clip above, the damage profile of the Epic/Legendary versions will be 44/46 to the body and 88/92 to the head, the latter stat being startlingly high. The ending demonstration in the video shows how devastating this can be, as a player with both full health and shields gets obliterated in just 3-4 bullets. Added to the fact that the gun is agile and versatile enough to be used at both medium and close-range gunfights, it would more than likely quickly become the most powerful assault rifle in the game, and completely alter the competitive meta. When will the new Heavy AR be added in Fortnite? As with every leaked weapon and item, there’s no telling when or even if they will be added into the game. It’s likely that one of the two guns leaked in the v11.20 update will get added at some point in the near future, but it’s highly improbable that it would be both. There are already two different assault rifle types in the game – the regular and burst – so adding two more seems very unlikely, especially with how much emphasis Epic put on limiting the weapon pool at the start of Chapter 2.

Leaked Fortnite cosmetics from update V6.21 (Nov 1) – Skins, pickaxes, gliders, emotes – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite cosmetics from update V6.21 (Nov 1) – Skins, pickaxes, gliders, emotes The weekly Fortnite update by Epic Games is one of the most exciting times of the week for fans of the game, and that’s all down to upcoming skins! The developers of the world’s most popular computer game seem resigned to the fact that data miners will look through each weekly update to find what’s due to be released. Each week we find out what player skins, pickaxes, gliders, and back bling will be coming to the store, although not everything that shows up in the files end up being released. It was business as usual for the miners on November 1 when Epic Games released Update V6.21. The update featured a host of changes to the game, including 25% damage from explosives through builds, and three popular weapons vaulted. Reflex Rare – “Quick to react, first to retaliate”

Leaked Fortnite details reveal just how powerful new helicopters could be – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite details reveal just how powerful new helicopters could be Epic GamesHelicopters could be making their way to Fortnite in the very near future and brand new leaks have uncovered just how powerful these new vehicles will be. From motorboats to shopping carts, Epic Games’ popular battle royale has seen a fair share of vehicles come and go over the seasons and a new addition could be on the horizon. Recent leaks appear to have confirmed the existence of a helicopter in Fortnite’s files, revealing various functions and statistics. However, new information has revealed just how devastating the upcoming vehicle could be at launch. While prominent Fortnite dataminers already unearthed the fact that helicopters will soar into battle with 1,500 HP and boosters to give a bump in speed, we now know exactly how much damage the vehicle is capable of dealing as well. Revealed on March 3 by French Fortnite leaker ‘Yanteh’ and later translated by fellow community member ‘FNBRHQ,’ helicopters will be capable of dealing damage in numerous ways once they appear on the map. When crashing into enemy structures for instance, the vehicle will instantly deal 150 damage, whereas the explosion from a damaged helicopter will deal a whopping 450 damage to buildings. The helicopters are in the files: Spawn rate: 0% Damage to players: 50 Build damage: 150 Explosion damage to players: 70 Explosion damage to builds: 450 Damage from when it hits a player (Minimum speed): 20 Damage when touched: 100 #Fortnite(Via @Yanteh_) pic.twitter.com/xWBBJ7dGhr — Mikey (@MikeDulaimi) March 3, 2020 Crashing directly into opposing players could be absolutely devastating. While you’ll only deal 20 damage to enemies if you’re traveling at the minimum speed, ramping up a notch will allow you to deal a full 100 damage per swoop with the aerial vehicle. Similar to the X-4 Stormwing that was vaulted in Season Eight, whenever you see a helicopter in the sky, you’ll know that it’s capable of wiping out not only your structures, but your entire squad if the pilot is on point. Having notoriously implemented a number of absurdly powerful vehicles in the past, including the highly controversial B.R.U.T.E. mech that was disabled after ample criticism, Epic could be setting themselves up for another divisive addition if the helicopter is deemed too strong. There’s no set date as to when the vehicle may appear in Fortnite, but given the amount of information that has leaked throughout the past few updates, their addition could be imminent While previous aerial vehicles were seen as more of an annoyance than anything else, perhaps the developers at Epic have finally figured out a way to keep helicopters balanced and ensure the game doesn’t grow too frustrating as a result. Additional leaks in the latest Fortnite updates have also unveiled a number of powerful weapons set to make their mark in the near future as well.

Some have leaked ahead of schedule already, and we don’t even have the patch notes yet! Those who regularly jump off the Battle Bus will know that, ahead of the game’s next major update, things have been looking very different from what we’ve come to know and love about Epic Games‘ battle royale title. The map was broken apart in the climax of Season 10 and since that time there’s been a whole load of uncertainty, with some players streaming a black hole on-screen for hours at a time – just waiting for something to reveal itself. However, on October 15 2019, the Chapter 2 patch finally went live and downtime began, so expect to see patch notes for PC, PS4, Xbox One and mobile very soon! Leaked Fortnite Cameo vs. Chic Overtime Mission challenges – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite Cameo vs. Chic Overtime Mission challenges Epic GamesFortnite Chapter 2, Season 1 is coming to an end, and with just one week of Overtime challenges left, data miners have given fans of the game an early look at the final Cameo vs. Chic Mission before the next major update goes live in February. Fortnite fans have had plenty of challenges to sink their teeth into over the past few weeks, with Epic Games releasing both the Rippley vs. Sludge and 8-Ball vs. Scratch Missions in January as part of the game’s Overtime portion, generally set aside as the final weeks of the season. The developers have decided not to release a new Mission on January 23, but that doesn’t mean that Overtime is finished, with a fourth and final set scheduled to release on Thursday, January 30, and thanks to leakers who sifted through the v11.40 update, we can take an early look at the challenges we can expect to see next week. Just like the three previous Overtime Missions, players have a total of 10 challenges to complete, with a brand-new skin style for the Cameo character offered to anyone who can complete nine of them before Chapter 2, Season 1 ends. The Cameo vs. Chic challenges might be some of the most difficult added to the game yet, testing players’ knowledge of the island with some tough challenges that will require a ton of exploring to complete. Players will need to find a lonely recliner, radio station, and outdoor movie theater to complete one, while another gnome has been hidden somewhere between a race track, cabbage patch, and farm sign. Players will also need to dance on top of Mount H7, Mount F8, and Mount Kay, while also grabbing a ton of eliminations. One challenge tasks players with finding five eliminations in named locations, while another requires combatants to take down players with an Assault Rifle, Shotgun, and Sniper Rifle. You can view the full challenges below courtesy of iFireMonkey. Leaked Fortnite Cameo vs. Chic Overtime challenges Catch an item with a Fishing Rod at three different locations with No Fishing signs – Consume an Apple, a Mushroom, and a Slurpshroom – Search five Rare Chests or Supply Llamas – Five eliminations at different named locations – Catch a fish at Lake Canoe, Lazy Lake, and Flopper Pond – Visit a lonely recliner, a radio station, and an outdoor movie theater – Get an elimination with an Assault Rifle, Shotgun, and a Sniper Rifle – Destroy a telescope, a television, and a telephone pole – Search the hidden gnome found in between a race track, a cabbage patch, and a farm sign – Dance at the top of Mount H7, Mount F8, and Mount Kay – Completing these challenges will also earn players 52,000 XP points for each, helping to level up and earn Battle Stars towards your Battle Pass, as Epic Games offer fans of the battle royale phenomenon a final opportunity to hit Tier 100 and unlock the season’s special skin. These challenges will go live on January 30, but the developers have yet to confirm a deadline for completing them, with Season 2 expected to start somewhere between February 6 and February 13.

Leaked Fortnite Cattus event clues hint at new Season 10 theme – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite Cattus event clues hint at new Season 10 theme Epic GamesFortnite Cattus event posters have potentially been leaked and while they might hint towards potential upheaval in Season 10, there’s zero mention of the monster that’s destroyed parts of the map for weeks. There have been strong suggestions that the in-game event was going to be a crossover with Godzilla: King of the Monsters, after a huge beast that appeared to be hiding under the Polar Peak location escaped, leaving huge footprints scattered around the battle royale map. However, potentially leaked Cattus promotional material seems to show a very different theme, and may have just dropped the biggest pointer yet about Season 10. Three posters have been shared to the Fortnite Leaks subreddit by Smithstirini, all of which seem to be influenced by World War 2 designs. With slogans such as “When danger strikes, take the high ground” and “We can build it,” it seems extremely likely that Cattus will be the introductory event for the next season, as it’s very different to that of Season 9. The designs hardly confirm the inclusion of the monster in the event, but that doesn’t mean to say that it won’t have a part to play – if its identity is ever to be revealed. Yet, they might well have confirmed the arrival of jet packs in Fortnite, with the second poster clearly showing a female character with one strapped to her back. Previously, a number of military-inspired buildings made their way into the battle royale mode, hinting at a future war-themed change to the map. While nothing has come from it, as of the time of writing, these pieces of promotional material could be the first major indication that Epic Games could add a military-themed location soon. Whether or not these illustrations are actually going to be used for the game, though, remains to be seen. Hence, it’s probably best to take them – and other leaked information – with a pinch of salt.

Leaked Fortnite Battle Royale skins and cosmetics from v9.10 update – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite Battle Royale skins and cosmetics from v9.10 update v9.10 patch introduces Hot Spots, specifically marked locations that include Loot Carriers, which drop high quality weapons for players to use in search of a Victory Royale. Also included in the latest update is a special in-game event created with Nike’s Air Jordan sneaker brand. Called Fortnite x Jordan, it sees players taking to a custom-made Creative mode map where they can hit massive jumps and grind across the game’s map. While fans always look forward to seeing the new items and modes included in the game’s latest update, many are often even more excited about the leaked cosmetic items that are revealed by data miners following the release of a new patch. These skins and other cosmetics are hidden away in the files of the game ready for their official release, but thanks to data miners, we can take a sneaky peak at what we can expect to see added to the item shop over the next few days. However, even if a skin has been added to the game’s files it doesn’t mean that we will definitely see it in the item shop, as Epic Games have been known to include skins that never get released. As usual, there are a number of leaked skins for the game, alongside a some new harvesting tools, backblings and wraps, so there will be plenty of new cosmetics to rock over the coming week. Leaked Fortnite Battle Royale Challenges for Week 6 of Season 5 – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite Battle Royale Challenges for Week 6 of Season 5 Fortnite TrackerThe Fortnite Battle Royale challenges for Week 6 of Season 5 have been leaked online by data miners, confirming earlier leaks. The leak has appeared on Fortnite Tracker, a website that is known for its accurate database and tracking network, so expect to see the official challenges match the data mined ones. It also concurs with a leak from earlier in the week that came from @FNLeak on Twitter. If Fortnite Tracker is correct, the August 16 challenges will include a mixture of three free challenges and four challenges that are only available for Battle Pass owners: Challenges like searching chests in Lonely Lodge or dealing headshot damage are a common sight, but tasks like completing timed trials and searching “where the Stone Heads are looking” are sure to keep players guessing. If you can’t see the image above, the leaked challenges for Week 6 of Season 5 are as follows: FREE PASS CHALLENGES Deal Headshot damage to opponents (500) – Harvest building resources with a pickaxe (3000) – Search where the Stone Heads are looking (1) – HARD – BATTLE PASS CHALLENGES Search chests in Lonely Lodge (7) – Complete timed trials (5) – Minigun or Light Machine Gun Eliminations (2) – HARD – Eliminate opponents in Tilted Towers (3) – HARD – While Fortnite Tracker is a trusted source, there is always a chance that Epic Games will make some last minute changes to the challenges so take leaks like this with a pinch of salt. The official release of the challenges is expected to come at 14:00 BST (09:00 EDT).

Leaked Fortnite Battle Royale ‘Nitehare’ Easter skin is terrifying – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite Battle Royale ‘Nitehare’ Easter skin is terrifying A new skin, backbling and pickaxe are coming to Fortnite Battle Royale for Easter 2019, found by data miners, and it’s a lot less friendly looking than you might have anticipated. Judging by previous bunny skins in Fortnite, which were released around Easter time last year, fans might have been expecting something similar for 2019, but Epic Games have went for the halloween-easter mashup this time. If you were expecting some new pals for the ‘Rabbit Raider’ or ‘Bunny Brawler’, which released last year, you will be disappointed, as it looks like their arch-nemesis is coming instead. New Easter ‘Nitehare’ skin found by data miners Data miner @ShiinaBR has discovered the demonic looking bunny in the game files, and fellow leaker @lucas7yoshi_ also uncovered an equally creepy backbling and deadly looking pickaxe. Read More: How to unlock the free Callsign Hornet Wrap in Fortnite – Air Royale LTM challenges leaked – The bizarre new skin is called ‘Nitehare’ – a play on ‘Fortnite’ and ‘Nightmare’ – and is aptly named, as it looks like something straight out of an Easter nightmare. The creepy backbling resembles something out of Chucky, the murderous doll from the classic horror films, and the pickaxe, called the ‘Steel Carrot’, looks more like the Grim Reaper’s scythe than a carrot. It’s not known exactly when these cosmetics will be available to purchase, but it stands to reason they will be in the item shop either April 20 or 21 (Easter Sunday). Players who are looking to scare their opponents as well as eliminate them will surely be interested in this set – which is also perhaps a sign that Epic Games wants to bring out some more sinister cosmetics in the future, as opposed to the traditionally more child-friendly approach. Other skins such as the Prisoner, and the teased ‘Raid’ skin would also support this, as they are also more nasty looking – but this Nitehare skin has to be the scariest yet.

Leaked footage of unreleased Fortnite emotes from v7.20 patch – Dexerto
Leaked footage of unreleased Fortnite emotes from v7.20 patch Data Miners have struck again as a video has surfaced of the newest, unreleased Fortnite emotes that were added in the recent v7.20 patch. Plenty of new content that was added in the recent patch has also been leaked – including new skins and pickaxes to be purchased from the Fortnite shop. However, the releases of these items is still yet to come so fans can only marvel at them from the recent leaks. Four new emotes are set to be added with three of them being rare and the other being uncommon. The names of the yet to be released emotes are: Flux, Slick, Whirlwind and IDK. Flux is a dance which sees the player wave their hands in an up and down motion before swinging left and right. Slick is also a dancing emote where the player uses their feet to lower themselves to the ground before standing back up and tap dancing. Read More: How to find secret Fortnite Battle Star for Week 7, Season 7 Snowfall challenge – Location and guide – The Whirlwind emote is also a dance where the player spins around like a Tornado before slowing to a stop after a few spins. Cheer Up shows the player using pom-poms to complete a cheerleading routine whilst Time Out allows the player to call a Basketball-like timeout, T’ing up their hands and hearing a whistle being blown. These emotes and their description were all a part of the recent leak from @lucas7yoshi_ on Twitter, who still regularly data mines in-game files to find unreleased content. Leaked files claim Fortnite’s Kevin the Cube is about to break apart – Dexerto
Leaked files claim Fortnite’s Kevin the Cube is about to break apart The V6.21 Update for Fortnite Battle Royale has only just been released, but data miners are already hard at work sifting through the patch files as they look for hints and clues as to what may be coming to Fortnite. While searching through the files, leakers have found new textures that indicate that Fortnite’s Cube, affectionately named Kevin by the community, may not be a cube for much longer. The files leaked by Siloxleaks indicate that the big purple object will break into three pieces at some point in the future, but as of yet, nobody is sure what will cause this destruction to happen. The first of the leaked files show the three different textures of the three new fragments along with what appear to be some smaller pieces that will break off when the event happens. It looks like the cube will be broken into 3 fragments (these being the texture files for it) pic.twitter.com/1R1XB0kZ99 — Silox (@siloxleaks) November 1, 2018 The second file shows the cube in its current state, but gives a clear view of where Kevin will break apart, and also reveals the shape and size of the new fragments. Data miners have also found the actual fragments that the cube will break into, with all three taking different shapes. Here are the meshes for the cube fragments that I leaked earlier. pic.twitter.com/GeTN3MdtXH — Silox (@siloxleaks) November 1, 2018 Cracks have been spotted on the cube over the last week, with more and more appearing as time went on, so it comes as little surprise that the cube won’t remain in its present form for much longer. It seems likely that the Cube’s inevitable demise will come during the upcoming ‘Butterfly’ in-game event, for which data miners have found various new files, although there is no official announcement as to when that may take place. Fortnitemares is scheduled to end on Sunday, November 4, so it’s possible that it takes place then, although we unfortunately don’t know what the future will hold for the various pieces of Kevin.

Leaked Footage of the New Heavy Sniper in Fortnite Battle Royale – Dexerto
Leaked Footage of the New Heavy Sniper in Fortnite Battle Royale New in-game footage of the leaked Heavy Sniper coming to Fortnite Battle Royale has surfaced, showcasing the raw power of the upcoming weapon. Data-miners discovered the existence of the Heavy Sniper following the recent v5.2 update for Fortnite, along with another new sniper and the double barrel shotgun which is now in the game. The Heavy Sniper was said to be a bolt-action rifle, and would come in a legendary rarity, so it was expected to be very, very powerful. The new footage verifies this, showing that it will destroy even metal in one shot. However it does have a lengthy reload time, with a painfully drawn out bolt-action. (Video: @FNBRLeaks) According to data miners, these are the stats for the legendary varient of the Heavy Sniper. Damage: 157.0 Fire Rate: 0.33 Magazine Size: 1 Reload Time: 4.1 The incredible damage output is of course offset by the 4s+ reload time, but it will still be a very useful weapon particularly in late game situations, and for taking out high builds. 500There is no official word from Epic Games on when the Heavy Sniper will be added to battle royale, but given it is already in the game files, it can be expected in the next content update. Leaked Dark Bomber Skin found in Fortnite’s V5.41 files – Does it support the Season 6 cube theory? – Dexerto
Leaked Dark Bomber Skin found in Fortnite’s V5.41 files – Does it support the Season 6 cube theory? It looks like rumors about Fortnite’s ‘Brite Bomber’ skin getting a darker counterpart were right on the money as more ‘Dark Bomber’ evidence has been discovered. According to a new leak from from the well known @FNBRLeaks data mining account on Twitter, it looks like the Dark Bomber skins is currently a work-in-progress and more information will be released in a future patch. The leak shows a “F_MED_Commando_Dark_Bomber” file with only one texture currently available, but it still serves to fuel one of the ongoing theories about the mysterious purple cube that has been moving around the map in recent weeks. 600 The first hint of a Dark Bomber skin came when players noticed something strange in the Week 9 bonus loading screen for Week 9 of the Road Trip. The image shows a Brite Bomber character touching the cube and seeing a reflection of a darker version of the skin on the cube’s surface. one massive leak on 4chan suggested that loot lake will be wiped out when the cube arrives at it, creating a dark hole or portal. That portal would, if the leak is correct, act as a gateway to a “dark version of the world” and a number of dark versions of skins could also be released in celebration of it. Read More: What changed in the latest Fortnite update? V5.41 patch notes, Port-a-Fortress, Spiky Stadium and more! – The fact that the first skin to get the dark treatment in a loading screen now seems to have a Dark Bomber version on the horizon certainly adds credence to the dark world theory – or at least something similar! With Season 5 due to end on September 25, and another patch also expected to be released on that day, we could well find out everything we want to know about the Dark Bomber in a week’s time.

Leaked Creative Mode coming to Fortnite Battle Royale – Dexerto
Leaked Creative Mode coming to Fortnite Battle Royale Fortnite YouTuber Lachlan ‘Lachlan’ Power has revealed that a brand new Creative Mode is coming to Fortnite in the near future. A video went live on Lachlan’s YouTube channel late on Thuesday, December 4, confirming that the new mode would be releasing “tomorrow”, although it appears that the video may have gone live early, and there’s no official release date for the mode. Lachlan has since made the video private, meaning that players are no longer able to watch the video, but fans were able to grab screenshots before it was made unavailable to give us a glimpse at what Creative Mode will be like. Fortnite’s Creative Mode will feature four different islands of different shapes and terrain, giving you plenty of choice when you’re attempting to build your perfect Fortnite map. Players will be able to place buildings through an in-game menu, including the old factory buildings from Salty Springs. Players will also be able to place their own chests, including specifying the items that the chests hold, while obstacle courses created by Epic Games can also be placed to create fun mini-games for you and your friends. The introduction of Creative Mode will be massive for players who would like to compete in custom matches inside Fortnite, and could be used by the esports community to create new rulesets and maps in the future. New customizable Fortnite hats, taunts and battle bus cosmetics leaked – Dexerto
New customizable Fortnite hats, taunts and battle bus cosmetics leaked Leaks suggest that plenty of new customizable cosmetic items could be added to Fortnite very soon, including hats, battle bus skins, and a new calling card item. Epic Games have been criticized heavily in recent weeks following the release of the v8.20 patch which removed the siphon mechanic loved by many as well as banning stretched resolution which caused outrage in the competitive community. However, a recent change may have gone under the radar, with plenty of in-game skins now able to be customized. Players who own skins such as Elite Agent, Scarlet Defender and Whiteout can now change the style of their item on the battlefield. What new cosmetic items will be added to Fortnite? Epic Games confirmed that more skins will be made customizable in the future, and recent leaks may have uncovered exactly what players will be able to change in their lockers. Found by @HYPEX on Twitter, players will be able to add a skin to the battle bus as well as changing the hat of their character. Code for a calling card was also discovered suggesting that Fortnite may be taking inspiration from Call of Duty and adding cards that can be obtained by completing challenges. 5 things will be added to fortnite very soon, customizable in the locker! -Hats -Taunt -Victory Pose -Calling Card -Battle Bus@Fortnite_BR @FortniteBR @bnwkr pic.twitter.com/E9hovmpaXj— HYPEX (@HYPEX) April 5, 2019 Is a new Victory Royale screen coming to Fortnite? The leak also found that players will be able to customize their victory royale pose and taunt – suggesting a brand-new loading screen may be added after securing a win. A concept loading screen was created back during Season 3 which was well received on Reddit – the idea may be finally be implemented into the actual game to showcase the statistics of the winning players. Indeed, code for hats and the battle bus was actually discovered during the first Fortnite birthday celebration and still haven’t been added so users might have to wait a little longer for the extra customization options. Nevertheless, players love being able to modify their character to suit their style and the change would most definitely be praised by the community.

Leaked Blizzard Blitzer weapon coming soon to Fortnite – Dexerto
Leaked Blizzard Blitzer weapon coming soon to Fortnite A notorious Fortnite leaker has revealed what appears to be a new weapon coming to the game for the festive season named the Blizzard Blitzer. The Winter season always brings some festive content to the battle royale title, be it weapon wraps, character skins or Christmas-themed loading screens. They do similar things for certain times of the year, such as at Halloween or Easter, but the Christmas period often seems to be the biggest. Now, though, it appears they may be reintroducing a new holiday-themed weapon to the game, if the latest leaks are anything to go by. Well-known leaker HYPEX, who is always on top of the biggest news coming from Fortnite, shared on December 12 a couple of screenshots of the ‘Blizzard Blitzer’, which looks very much like a snow-themed rocket launcher. Contrary to how it looks, however, the Blizzard Blitzer is actually an assault rifle, described as “a medium-range semi-automatic assault rifle that uses medium ammo to shoot snowballs.” The Blizzard Blitzer appears to come in both Legendary and Epic variants, doing 82 and 92 damage to players respectively, making it an incredibly powerful weapon. HYPEX does explain, though, that “he can’t tell if it’s battle royale or Save The World but it looks like it’s BR.” If this weapon is in BR, it will be one of the most powerful weapons in the game, far better even than the Legendary and Epic standard Assault Rifle variants, which do 35 and 36 damage respectively. Many are speculating that it looks to be a Christmas variant of the heavy assault rifle that was in the game at one point from Season 5 to when it was vaulted in October 2019 with patch 11.0. However, the Blizzard Blitzer is semi-auto, whereas the heavy AR was fully automatic. We can’t confirm the Blizzard Blitzer to be a guaranteed weapon coming to Fortnite, be it battle royale or Save The World, but it seems very likely now with this leak. With damage stats like that, you’ll want to make sure you get your hands on one as soon as possible.

Leak: Overhauled Fortnite Revolver coming soon – Dexerto
Leak: Overhauled Fortnite Revolver coming soon Epic GamesData miners hunting through the Fortnite have found a new version of the Revolver which is set to be added to the game in the near future. While the June 18 update provided players with a brand new consumable item in the form of the Chug Splash, the files included in the patch have also given fans a glimpse at what is to come to the popular battle royale title. Leakers have already revealed that a new Drum Shotgun is on its way, and now @Lucas7yoshi has discovered that an updated version of the game’s Revolver is apparently coming soon too. The leak shows that the Revolver, which was previously part of the game before it was vaulted in a wild west variant, has been given a brand new look, switching to a more modern style for the weapon design with a huge barrel that looks like it will pack a punch. The game describes the weapon as: “Fast, precise sidearm with a good punch but small capacity.” Some other weapons that were added this patch: pic.twitter.com/xYQ7WF8a5G — Lucas7yoshi // Fortnite Leaks/News (@Lucas7yoshi) June 19, 2019 The Revolver will come in both Epic and Legendary rarities, with a damage rate of 63/66 to both opposing players and structures. The weapon will fire medium bullets, unlike other pistols which use light ammo, and has a fire rate of 1.5 rounds-per-second. Revolver Epic/LegendaryDamage: 63/66 Fire Rate: 1.5 per second (0.75 seconds between shots) Mag Size: 6Reload Times: 1.9/1.8 Building Damage: Same as damage Medium Bullets pic.twitter.com/1GPmmQKPQ3 — Lucas7yoshi // Fortnite Leaks/News (@Lucas7yoshi) June 19, 2019 Where the new Revolver will fit in the game’s current meta remains to be seen. It’s possible that Epic may have vaulted the Dual Pistols in favor of this, but with the Hand Cannon doing more damage-per-shot, it seems unlikely that it will unseat it as the best pistol in the game. Epic Games have yet to announce that the revamped Revolver is coming to Fortnite, but the fact that the item design and weapon statistics have been added to the game indicate that it’s ready to be released to the public. There is also no word on when we can expect to see it, but it’s possible we could see it and the Drum Shotgun go live in the next update, which is expected to be the v9.31 patch on Tuesday, June 25.

Leak suggests Star Wars lightsabers might be coming to Fortnite – Dexerto
Leak suggests Star Wars lightsabers might be coming to Fortnite A leaker has shared details that they believe Fortnite Battle Royale players will be able to use lightsabers in an upcoming Star Wars Limited Time Mode ahead of the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It’s already been announced that there will be a Fortnite-exclusive premiere of the world-beating Disney franchise on December 14. A never-before-seen scene from the film will be airing in Risky Reels, similar to previous collaborations such as for the release of Wreck-it Ralph. Now, prominent data-miner ShiinaBR has shared information that suggests a new Star Wars Limited Time Mode – or LTM – will allow players to get their hands on lightsabers as if straight from a galaxy far, far away. A tweet from the leaking account on December 12 said: “There is a high chance that we’ll be able to play with lightsabers in the Star Wars LTM! These are 4 colors of the Star Wars “Lobster” weapons (probably file name for the lightsabers) that have been found in the files: Red, Green, Purple & Blue.” These four colors are the ones most commonly employed by Jedi and Sith characters in the Star Wars universe, with players able to pick up one that resembles that of their favorite characters from the saga. There is a high chance that we’ll be able to play with lightsabers in the Star Wars LTM! These are 4 colors of the Star Wars “”Lobster”” weapons (probably file name for the lightsabers) that have been found in the files: Red, Green, Purple & Blue (h/t @spedicey1) — Shiina (@ShiinaBR) December 12, 2019 This can’t be confirmed for sure until the lightsabers are added to the game, but there’s not even any confirmation yet that there will be a Star Wars-themed LTM at all. It seems likely though, given the fact that so much effort is being poured into this collaboration. It closely mirrors the collaboration between Fortnite and Marvel for the release of Avengers: Endgame, which saw the Thanos LTM added along with the Mythic Infinity Gauntlet and many of the Avengers’ weapons. Maybe there will be a similar LTM and Mythic item arrive in the game for the highly-anticipated Star Wars collaboration, but there have already been some additions such as the Stormtrooper skin, which was added in mid-November 2019. The December 14 launch date is fast-approaching, so players won’t have to wait long to find out if they’ll get to run around with lightsabers in Fortnite.

Leak: Fortnite Storm Scout Sniper Rifle weapon coming soon – Dexerto
Leak: Fortnite Storm Scout Sniper Rifle weapon coming soon Epic GamesA new weapon has been found in the files of v9.40 update already introduced some new guns for Fortnite fans to wield, with Epic and Legendary variations of the Tactical Shotgun included in the July 17 patch. It appears that Epic Games aren’t finished there though, with data miners who are scouring through the update’s files coming across a brand new long range weapon that looks set to pack a punch. Data miner @FortTory has found some information related to the weapon, but its purpose remains unclear, as Fortnite already has a number of sniper rifles in the game and brought back the Bolt-Action Sniper in the v9.40 update. The Storm Scout Sniper Rifle comes in two rarities, Epic and Legendary, and will deal 81 or 85 damage-per-shot respectively, regardless of distance. The weapon will fire one bullet-per-second, and will hold six Heavy Bullets at one time. The Storm Scout looks different from any other sniper rifle in the game, with purple paint in the form of a lightning bolt on a side, and a strange sight that is unlike any other weapon. Data miner @Lucas7yoshi has uploaded a clip of the weapon in action, which appears to show that a small minimap appears in the bottom-left corner of the scope, and also seems to show the direction from which the storm is coming. The leaker claims that the weapon has 100% accuracy when not scoped in, but it remains to be seen whether than remains to be the case when it officially goes live. Leak: All-new Fortnite Drum Shotgun coming soon – Dexerto
Leak: All-new Fortnite Drum Shotgun coming soon Epic GamesFortnite Battle Royale, after potentially leaked images surfaced of the weapon. There have been a number of changes to the battle royale game’s weapon list throughout Season 9, with some weapons escaping the vault at the very beginning – such as the Drum Gun – and some headed into the vault throughout the course of the season. However, after the Pump Shotgun was controversially removed from Fortnite in May, players might soon be handed a brand new alternative – should new leaks prove to be correct. Three variants of a ‘Drum Shotgun’ have been posted to Twitter by notorious Fortnite leaker Lucas7Yoshi, after finding the weapon in the data files that were added by Epic Games for the v9.30 update. The weapon looks to be available in grey, green, and blue rarities – a little different from the Pump Shotgun, of course, which came in Legendary and Epic colors. The new gun seems to bare a striking resemblance to the Drum Gun already found in the game, but whether or not it will be just as powerful remains to be seen at this stage. It’s worth noting that this leak, or any potentially leaked information for that matter, is best taken with a pinch of salt until Epic Games make an official announcement. Most weapons that are coming soon to Fortnite, as many will be aware, soon pop up in the online news feed. So, keep your eyes peeled for changes in that regard. There’s not yet any specific details available regarding the Drum Shotgun, but as soon as they are made available to us, we’ll be the first to let you know.

Leaked Fortnite Season 10 loading screen reveals close look at mysterious robot – Dexerto
Leaked Fortnite Season 10 loading screen reveals close look at mysterious robot Twitter: FortToryA new Fortnite leak has revealed the best look at Season 10’s mysterious robot that players might soon be facing in the battle royale. Epic Games has been on a tear with the incredible additions to Fortnite lately, whether it’s new skins in time for the World Cup or their library of cosmetics, players have tons to grind for in Fortnite. Even though players were just gifted an epic mech vs monster battle in Season 9, it doesn’t look like the robots are going to be leaving soon with the emergence of a new loading screen depicting a humanoid bot ready for battle. Season X holds a lot of mystery, but the new Fortnite leak has shed some light to one of them. A July 31 leak by Brondon ‘Vain’ shows Rust Lord seemingly being hunted by a mechanized foe who has various weapons primed and ready to be used against the Fortnite character. Fortnite fanatics will instantly recognize the bot from its silhouette that the official Fortnite Twitter account released on July 29, which signaled the inevitable appearance of the mechanical fiend. The leaked image showing the bots that will be coming to Fortnite. While the surprise was supposed to be either revealed or detailed on August 1, it seems like players don’t need to wait that long anymore to get their first glimpse at the full bodied mech with guns for fists. At the time of writing it’s still unknown when Season X will be launching, but it looks like players will have a fearsome new gameplay mechanic to fight when it does. Another Fortnite appearance by The Visitor? Moreover, it’s hard to tell who it is but the mech is indeed being piloted by someone or something. Previous theories pointed to a return from The Visitor to the battle royale island. Players had found similarities between the logo on the left side of the Season X teaser and that of The Visitor’s Season 4 design featuring the insignia on its arm. It might be time for another visit from The… Visitor. Again, the leaked loading screen is fuzzy, but if it is The Visitor then it looks like the Epic Games devs have given them an upgrade for their possible Season 10 appearance. The Fortnite fan base might have a lot more to go off of when the teaser officially drops, but Season 10 is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated chapters in the game so far.

LDN UTD to hold open tryouts for new Fortnite roster One of the newest esports organizations based in London will be doing something that’s largely unheard of in the esports realm. While most esports organizations field teams consisting of the biggest names in each game, LDN UTD is flipping the script by taking a more grassroots approach. On January 4, the org will be holding open tryouts for their Xbox and PlayStation Fortnite teams, allowing anyone the chance to represent LDN UTD. The event will be held at Loading’s Server Bar in London from 6-10pm, with four winners ultimately being chosen to play for LDN UTD at the EStars Fortnite tournament that will be held at a few different football stadiums across the UK and Ireland throughout the first few months of 2019. The tryouts will be free, as players simply need to register online to reserve their spot at the special event. EStars Fortnite Tour Launch Video 2018 from visualnarrative.tv on Vimeo. This event will be the first of many that LDN UTD will hold as they begin their journey into the esports world to find the best players around. LDN UTD’s goal is to be a completely fan-driven organization, as fans will be able to invest in and ultimately make decisions on which players they think the org should go after. Prospective players will be able to upload their best plays to the LDN UTD website where fans will vote for their favorite ones that will then have the chance to attend a community event to compete for a place on the team. With support from various sponsors such as Observatory, a 3D motion graphic design agency, LDN UTD will be looking to break the mold entirely in 2019.

Lazarbeam’s YouTube stream crashes amid Fortnite Icon skin hype – Dexerto
Lazarbeam’s YouTube stream crashes amid Fortnite Icon skin hype YouTube: Lazarbeam / Epic GamesLannan ‘Lazarbeam’ Eacott, one of Fortnite’s biggest content creators, has finally received an Icon Series skin after years of grinding. However, while he was celebrating on launch day, his YouTube stream crashed amid all the hype. Getting an Icon Series skin is a big deal in Fortnite. Epic usually only hands them out to top content creators, like Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins. So when Australian Fortnite star Lazarbeam finally got his face into the game, he went all out to celebrate. His stream celebrating the release of his “tradie” Fortnite skin was meant to be a big affair, uniting his community on “the biggest day of [his] Fortnite career.” Instead though, things didn’t go to plan. As the viewership kept rising and rising, his internet died, bringing an end to one of his most hype broadcasts. Internet went down on the biggest day of my fortnite career 🙃 Still felt a lot of love today for my skin debut ❤️❤️ pic.twitter.com/bTkKSNazxB — LAZAR (@Lazarbeam) March 3, 2021 “Internet went down on the biggest day of my Fortnite career,” he said on Twitter. “Still felt a lot of love today for my skin debut. Legit no internet problems for 12 months then this happened.” While it was nothing like TheGrefg, who had over 2.2 million viewers during his skin reveal, breaking Twitch records, Lazarbeam’s stream was peaking during his own presentation. Read More: Fortnite Lazarbeam skin revealed – Eacott shared stats of the stream, which reached nearly 150,000 concurrents on YouTube. The two-hour broadcast netted him nearly 8,000 new subscribers, and had a total watch time of nearly 200,000 hours. He thanked his fans for all the support despite the complications. “Today was a big day. It will be a very big week. Thanks for all the love,” he said before going live. The Lazarbeam Fortnite Icon Series skin will be available in the Item Shop starting March 4, 2021. It will include a Lunch Break emote, as well as a Sledgehammer pickaxe to celebrate his roots as a tradesman before jumping into Fortnite.

LazarBeam slams Fortnite’s “pointless” new UI changes – Dexerto
LazarBeam slams Fortnite’s “pointless” new UI changes YouTube: LazarBeam / Epic GamesLannan ‘LazarBeam’ Eacott has taken aim at Epic’s choice to change Fortnite’s user interface in Chapter 2, dubbing the screen updates “literally pointless,” and likening them to “screen vomit” instead of improvements. Fortnite’s reset into Chapter 2 has been a divisive move so far. It’s been dubbed as a “boring” change for all. Even the battle royale’s biggest defender, Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins, has opened fire on the title, admitting he “feels bad” for the fans. LazarBeam — who previously warned the battle royale could be on its final legs, and admits he’s “really worried” for its future — has also found fault with the new updates. His issues, however, are a little less gameplay related. According to Eacott, Epic needs to consider reverting the Fortnite UI (user interface) during matches. He likened Chapter 2’s gun layouts, info-bars, and medal popups to “screen vomit.” In his eyes, something has to change, and “fast.” “Potentially controversial opinion…I miss the old UI. The medal and experience bar system is literally pointless screen vomit. I don’t need a giant medal on my screen ‘cause I’m in the top 50!” he posted on Twitter. Fortnite has also seen a number of quests added, including collecting rare fish. Those “dumb pop-ups” aren’t necessary either, the Aussie star said, and added “he doesn’t need a giant medal on my screen cause [he] caught a f**king fish!” potentially controversial opinion but i miss the old UI the medal and xp bar system is literally pointless screen vomit I DONT NEED A GIANT MEDAL ON MY SCREEN CAUSE IM IN THE TOP 50 pic.twitter.com/9jh0qgoUEf — LAZAR (@Lazarbeam) March 28, 2020 This isn’t the first time LazarBeam has suggested Fortnite’s original chapter — just dubbed Seasons 1 through 10 back then — was a better experience than the game is now. He even admitted to “watching old videos” and reminiscing. “Game was so simple, clean, and fun [back then]. It felt like the entire globe discovered and experienced this game together. I’m emotional man!” he said in another tweet earlier this month, days before the Helicopter update. He did admit Epic Games had “done a good job keeping the game exciting,” with the patches they’ve rolled out recently. “There was a reason it took over the world,” he added. He believes that spark has been missing in Chapter 2 so far. Been watching old Fortnite videos. Game was so simple clean and fun. It felt like the entire globe discovered and experienced this game together. IM EMOTIONAL MAN! — LAZAR (@Lazarbeam) March 19, 2020 That isn’t through lack of trying from Epic’s behalf, however. The devs have poured new guns, high-flying vehicles, and a hefty helping of challenges into Chapter 2 so far, and there’s even more new stuff on the horizon too. According to Fortnite’s devs, there’s “unbelievable things” still to come. They’ve stayed relatively quiet about what that could mean, though. Let’s hope, for LazarBeam’s sake at least, the changes include a new Fortnite UI overhaul.

LazarBeam reveals three game-breaking bugs in Fortnite Chapter 2 – Dexerto
LazarBeam reveals three game-breaking bugs in Fortnite Chapter 2 LazarBeam/YouTubePopular Australian YouTuber LazarBeam has revealed three game-breaking bugs in Fortnite Chapter 2, in a video published on October 16. Lannan ‘LazarBeam‘ Eacott rose to mass popularity while playing the popular battle royale game, especially with his comedic ‘Fortnite memes’ videos. He grew from one million subscribers prior to the release of Epic Games’ title in September 2017 to almost 12 million subscribers in September 2019. As is expected when a game receives a major overhaul like Fortnite just has, there are some bugs and growing pains to be addressed; but some of the bugs and glitches LazarBeam has shown in his video will need a fix sooner rather than later. The first bug that the Aussie shows off is the flying boat glitch. Chapter 2 dropped with new means of mobility for players in the form of boats, but users have quickly found ways to abuse them, flying off of waterfalls to remain airborne and be able to attack enemies from above. This is especially useful when using the boat’s missiles to take down enemies, especially if they are boxing up. Following this, he shows off a bug that has been evident in just about every FPS this side of the century: getting under the map. It happens in every game and is just something devs have to find a way to counter, but for now, LazarBeam is still able to get under the map and take down enemies while completely invisible to them. Finally, the last bug shown is a strange one that has been in the game for a while, using a shopping cart, Rift-To-Go, and balloons to fly above the ceiling barrier that is normally in the game. You would typically reach the height barrier at 1,300 meters, but LazarBeam reaches over 250,000m before his PC crashed, saying: “Fortnite just can’t handle this much big-brain activity.” You probably shouldn’t attempt to recreate these bugs in-game, for the sanity of anyone you come up against, but it’s very likely Epic will address them as soon as possible to stop players from abusing them. These aren’t the only issues so far in Fortnite Chapter 2: it would appear that shotgun aim has some serious problems with their hitboxes.

Lazarbeam reveals why he’s been struggling to play Fortnite in Chapter 2 – Dexerto
Lazarbeam reveals why he’s been struggling to play Fortnite in Chapter 2 YouTuber Lannan ‘Lazarbeam’ Eacott has long been a big supporter of Fortnite – he even has ‘code lazar’ tattooed on his arm – but the Australian star says he believes “until there’s new content,” the battle royale is all but dead. Lazarbeam first built his YouTube following by playing Fortnite, and doubled-down on his following alongside Epic’s battle royale with memes about the game, all of which netted him more than 12 million subscribers. So, of course, much of his fandom has been left a bit confused as the Aussie star uploaded video after video of meme reviews, monthly updates, and ClickCrew skit videos — all with not a single Fortnite gameplay video in sight. Now, the YouTuber has come clean with his fans about why he hasn’t been playing the battle royale. According to Eacott, who touched on the subject on January 12, a lack of content has left him disappointed with the game’s second chapter. “People have been asking me about Fortnite… there is absolutely no content in that game, it doesn’t exist,” Lazarbeam admitted, and added that he hoped his thoughts on the dearth of “excitement” didn’t garner him the attention of Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins. “I would love to make Fortnite videos, but there is straight-up nothing. I was trying to film a video the other day and I caught myself thinking ‘Damn, this would have been good, if there were launch-pads in the game’.” For Lazarbeam, a lack of flowing content is the main reason he feels like Fortnite fans are “attending its funeral,” and admitted there’s only so many times you can drop into the title’s default modes before it gets stale for players and fans alike. According to the Aussie YouTuber, the best way for Epic to fix this issue would be to bring more “cool items” into the game. As well as making it “a lot more fun for casual players,” interesting items can keep the title fresh for content creators. “Cool items make such a huge difference, they allow you to expand your content, but if they never add anything how can you think outside the box?” he said. “There’s only so far you can stretch it. I still love Fortnite, obviously, I have ‘code lazar’ tattooed on me, but I can’t really do much until there’s content in that game. I want some variety. I want to mix it up. I need something Fortnite.” Lazarbeam’s wish may be on the horizon, if Epic founder Tim Sweeney’s recent teasers about “more powerful” Fortnite Creative tools are to be believed. According to the company’s founder and chief executive Sweeney, there’s plenty more to come on the horizon “in the next twelve months,” starting with the introduction of “more powerful” Creative tools to kick-start a new era. “We’re going to see a future world of games, where users are the primary creators of content,” he explained, and admitted the improved and accelerated social features arriving in the Fortnite Creative mode were also to meet that end. For now, Lazarbeam fans might have to wait a while before seeing their favorite YouTuber back in the game. Right now, he’s celebrating the ClickCrew’s charity drive for the Australian Bushfires, which saw them raise more than $300,000. And just because the Aussie star has shelved Fortnite, and his need for his ‘code lazar’ tattoo, right now, doesn’t mean he won’t eventually return. Maybe Chapter 2’s fast-approaching second season will even lure him back in.

LazarBeam reveals glitch to spawn infinite bots and break Fortnite – Dexerto
LazarBeam reveals glitch to spawn infinite bots and break Fortnite Twitter: LazarBeam/Epic GamesPopular YouTuber Lannan ‘LazarBeam’ Eacott managed to break Fortnite by spawning 1000 bots with a little help from his pals in a bid to run some extreme tests. While many Fortnite players will opt to stick with what they know in the battle royale and Save the World modes, others spread their wings a little more and push the game to its edge – coming up with genius ideas in creative mode. However, there’s also another mode called ‘battle lab’ that some players have been using to see how much it takes to make the game crash. One such player is LazarBream, as the popular Australian content creator expanded on his earlier tests by exploiting a glitch that allows you to spawn more than the maximum number of bots. In his test, the Aussie teamed up a few of his friends to see if a glitch to spawn infinite bots was still active and if so, how many would it take to completely ruin the game. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t take much time at all – with the YouTuber’s game clearly struggling with nearly 200 bots standing about. On the way to 250 though, he encountered some issues, with the game coming to a grinding halt. Though, that didn’t stop him from getting back in and trying to break the 1000 bot mark. After encountering a few more issues along the way, he finally made it to his goal without the game immediately caving in. “There are so many bots, I don’t think they can even register that I’m even here,” LazarBeam said, before moving on to his next round of tests – including dropping them off a platform and trying to make the bots fight in teams. Unfortunately, trying those experiments with 1000 proved to be an issue as the YouTuber stated that whenever he’d travel across the map, his game would immediately crash. The tests did, however, work with 300 friendly bots – though dropping them from a great height onto a set of bounce pads did seem to impact his frames in the worst possible way. So, if you’re thinking about trying it for yourself, just be warned.

LazarBeam hilariously wins Fortnite match without ever moving – Dexerto
LazarBeam hilariously wins Fortnite match without ever moving YouTube/LazarBeamAustralian Fortnite YouTuber Lannan ‘LazarBeam’ Eacott showed that it’s actually possible to win a match without ever moving, at all. After a few attempts, LazarBeam developed his do-nothing strategy of sitting on flagpoles and hoping he doesn’t get spotted by opposing players. While his first try was going decently well, he got unlucky with the zones, and found himself in a situation where the storm would eliminate him. In his second attempt, the YouTuber fell victim to a helicopter, causing him to place at a less-than-stellar 73. Eventually, the entertainer came up with a big-brain plan to ensure he’d win without moving – but it would take a bit of luck to make work. (Timestamp 6:00 for mobile users) “The problem is, you have to get a perfect circle in this, it takes hours,” he stated, not referencing the American rock band of the same name. “Even if I get a perfect circle, people die too slowly. There’s too many alive.” As part of LazarBeam’s epiphany, he realized that he could use his friend ‘mrfreshasian’ to do all the heavy lifting for him. “My friend Fresh is one of the best players in the world,” he said. “I’ll stream snipe him without him knowing and he’s going to kill the entire lobby so quick that it’s going to be just me and him left, and then I’m going to run into his room and unplug his PC.” And with that, the Australian basically became Tom Cruise – because he was embarking on a near-impossible mission. His final attempt went pretty smoothly at first, with the entertainer hiding in a tree while his friend went ahead to kill the entire lobby. After lucking out on zones and making it to the top 10, Fresh continued to rack up kills keeping the dream alive, much to the delight of LazarBeam who cheered “like a parent at a soccer game.” Once Fresh managed to kill the third remaining player, it was the YouTuber’s time to strike as he ran into his friend’s room and executed the last step of his master plan by taking control of his PC and exiting Fortnite earning the victory royale. “Holy sh*t!” he cried in glee at the outcome. “I sat all game and I got the victory royale.” So, while Eacott proved it was possible to win at Fortnite without moving, it’s not something that’s super feasible for those at home – unless you happen to live with a God-tier gamer and get insanely lucky.

LazarBeam and MrFreshAsian uncover game-breaking Fortnite Season 2 bugs – Dexerto
LazarBeam and MrFreshAsian uncover game-breaking Fortnite Season 2 bugs YouTube: LazarBeam / Epic GamesLannan ‘LazarBeam’ Eacott and Harley ‘MrFreshAsian’ Campbell have shown off some of Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 2’s most game-breaking exploits, including a walking “nuke” and a gravity-defying stunt. Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 2 was a major update for Epic’s battle royale, introducing a ton of new features into the game. One of the major updates was the release of a new physics engine just before Season 2’s release in v11.50, as well as some new weapons to tinker around with. This sparked some ideas for LazarBeam and MrFreshAsian, who looked at bringing some of their wildest concepts in Fortnite to life — all while highlighting some amusing bugs on the way. In LazarBeam’s February 23 video, the Australian duo got working on trying to break the game in as many ways as possible. Some of these exploits were entirely new too, catching not only enemy players, but the streamers off-guard once they worked. The first glitch involved the newly-released boxes and some of the decorations around the map. LazarBeam and MrFreshAsian were able to glitch their way into a taxi near Pleasant Park by throwing a box into the back window of the car, hiding in the box, and getting out. From there, the two were able to chill in the backseat, firing away on unsuspecting foes who rolled on by. However, they were left out high-and-dry to the storm, eventually perishing once the circle moved away from them. Next up, they tackled the zero-gravity glitch involving magnets. Running into the storm, LazarBeam launched himself off a cliff to the west side of Dirty Docks, eventually glitching back into the map and in the air. While he was able to get the high ground on all of his foes without even building a single ramp, he was only able to travel in a straight line. However, it made for some pretty sweet sniper angles, confusing enemies as to where they were shot from. The final, and arguably best exploit turned both Fresh and Lazar into walking “nukes” — so they described it. You first get someone to jump into a box, strap a bunch of C4 onto them, and then get them to jump on a launchpad. Once they are near your enemies, you detonate the C4 for some easy kills. This strategy proved to be a boon for the duo, who racked up plenty of kills and victory royales by having a box filled with C4 unsuspectingly fly towards their enemies and kill them. They even nicknamed it the “boombox” in honor of the vaulted weapon. All the strategies Fresh and Lazar showed off in the video were only made possible thanks to the changes in Season 2. While some of the more glitchy ones will eventually be patched out, one can only hope that a design like the boombox might be able to stay in the game for now.

LazarBeam hilariously exposes Fortnite’s God Mode exploits – Dexerto
LazarBeam hilariously exposes Fortnite’s God Mode exploits YouTube: LazarBeam/Epic GamesAustralian Fortnite YouTuber Lannan ‘LazarBeam’ Eacott showed that the annoying invisibility and god mode exploits can actually provide some entertainment – if you don’t use them to win. LazarBeam has cultivated a huge fan base on YouTube thanks to his hilarious Fortnite experiments. In the past, he has run his PC into the ground by spawning hundreds upon hundreds of bots and even won a game without moving or dealing damage to an enemy player. Yet, in his newest video, the Aussie Fortnite content creator decided to up the ante – using the invisibility and invincibility exploits that are currently in the battle royale to hand out wins to other players. Yes, he didn’t use them to win, but to have a bit of fun instead. For the benefit of everyone else, the YouTuber didn’t actually show how you pull off the exploits but instead, just revealed that he was using them – noting that his health was actually at zero and that he couldn’t use weapons. As he sprinted around the map, players tried to gun him down but ultimately failed – leaving LazarBeam in hysterics. On his first attempt, the exploit didn’t work all that long – allowing him to die. Though, he dove back in and decided to use it again. Players flocked to him, confused by his inability to take damage. However, as soon as he dove into water, his enemies could actually take him down. The YouTuber upped the ante even further by going invisible – trolling players with slight hits of his pickaxe and destroying their 1×1 buildings before they could put any roots down. Yet, he stayed true to his word and dove into the storm – taking one hit of zone damage and handing the win to the final time. Obviously, he asked Epic not to ban him as he was only having a bit of fun but his video shows that anybody can get their hands on the exploits if they try. We’ll just have to wait and see if Epic decides to patch them in the near future.

A number of prominent Fortnite players and streamers including Loserfruit, Ninja, and Lachlan have received their own Icon Series skins in the game, and players are always wondering who will be next. LazarBeam shows off “pay to win” Fortnite skins in Marvel-themed season – Dexerto
LazarBeam shows off “pay to win” Fortnite skins in Marvel-themed season Epic Games / YouTube: LazarBeamEpic Games introduced a number of popular Marvel heroes and villains with the major Season 4 update, though some of the new character skins appear to be ‘pay to win’ in the eyes of Lannan ‘LazarBeam’ Eacott. Throwing around accusations of pay to win content is no small matter. With millions of players logging in daily, Fortnite introducing new premium unlocks that give a competitive edge would be met with more backlash than even Doctor Strange could predict. While Fortnite’s fourth season brought a ton of iconic Marvel figures into the battle royale, some skins appear to have more useful effects than others. Many of them can be unlocked in the Nexus War Battle Pass. Though others can be bought outright through the daily store as well. In one of his first videos in the new season, LazarBeam uncovered a few hilarious ways to gain an advantage. Full disclaimer: none of them are actually pay to win. But they can provide some amusing opportunities to confuse your opponents. The first skin in question is Mystique. This popular character comes with a one-of-a-kind emote. After slaying an enemy, she’s able to transform and shift her appearance into whatever she last killed. From an opposing skin to the design of an AI bot, she can change her look on the fly. This can be considered ‘overpowered,’ according to LazarBeam who used the emote to trick his opposition. The “pay to win emote” let him “become a robot.” He then stood still among a group of AI and threw his enemies for a loop. “If someone comes here looking for some loot, they think they’re going to come up against some NPCs, but LazarBeam is going to be sitting here sweating.” “It’s amazing the things you can do in Fortnite if you just spend some money,” he joked. Another skin that provided a super niche advantage was the Silver Surfer. While many players have taken issue with his actually powerful abilities, LazarBeam found a patient trick to once again, catch enemies by surprise. “I am made of entirely silver components. This statue is also made entirely of silver,” he said while gliding down to Doom’s Domain. He sat atop the statue and blended in, turning completely “invisible” as enemies passed by without noticing. “I don’t know if it’s pay to win or pay to meme,” the YouTube star acknowledged. While the skins obviously come with unique effects, none of them can outright gift you a win. Almost all of them can be earned without spending a dollar as well. If you’re leveling up your battle pass, here’s what you can expect to unlock throughout Season 4.

Lazarbeam exposes infinite win and invisibility glitches in Fortnite – Dexerto
Lazarbeam exposes infinite win and invisibility glitches in Fortnite Lazarbeam, YouTubePopular YouTuber Lannan ‘LazarBeam’ Eacott has shared infinite win and invisibility glitches in Fortnite and called on Epic Games to vault the bugged items. Fortnite’s battle royale has had countless unusual bugs and glitches since its rise to mainstream popularity in late 2017. However, YouTube star LazarBeam may have found two of the most overpowered bugs of all time and has called on Epic to take action against the exploits. LazarBeam highlighted two glitches that were originally found by Glitch King, with one making players completely invisible and another which allowed players to pick up infinite wins. “This is so broken that you are going to see some stuff vaulted, I’m sure of it,” he shared, before revealing how to replicate the ridiculous bugs. He first demonstrated the invisibility glitch, revealing that Fortnite fans could catch others off guard due to a bug with the new cardboard boxes item. The glitch, which can be done by aiming and crouching at the right time, makes the player’s character model disappear and even certain weapons, such as the harpoon gun would not be visible when bugged. Helicopter win exploit However, many recognized that the second glitch was even more problematic, allowing players with helicopters to pass by the game’s skybox and avoid taking damage from other players in the lobby. Lazarbeam demonstrated a few games using the glitch, highlighting that the simple use of a grapple gun and a helicopter could put players in an unbeatable spot to win a match. The YouTuber shared that the glitches would likely be fixed soon and called for Epic Games to vault some of the items causing issues, such as the grapple gun. As of now, Epic Games have not added either of the bugs to their community updates board, although they are unlikely to remain in-game for too much longer.

LazarBeam banned mid-game after Fortnite stream-sniping prank goes wrong – Dexerto
LazarBeam banned mid-game after Fortnite stream-sniping prank goes wrong YouTube: LazarBeam / Epic GamesLannan ‘LazarBeam’ Eacott has fallen foul of Epic’s hefty banhammer, after he and a half-dozen other Fortnite players tried to pull off a hilarious stream-snipe prank on fellow Click star MrFreshAsian during a solo match. LazarBeam’s relationship with ClickCrew’s resident Fortnite pro Harley “Fresh” Campbell seems to be built on jokes. From trying to “break” Epic’s game together, to pranking him mid-stream, Eacott never seems to give Fresh a break. To his credit, Fresh is a pretty good sport about it all, even when LazarBeam’s pranks devolve into chasing him around with a gang of Peely-wearing players in a solo match. While the Fortnite pro may not mind, however, it seems like Epic does. Fresh loaded into a solo match. Soon, the Fortnite pro found himself hunted across the map. First, the banana-adorned stream-sniping pack, led by LazarBeam himself, kept tabs on him in choppers. Then they sprung their trap. The Click streamer had got himself a chopper, and thought he was clearing out a single rival in a bush with the Season 2 vehicle. To his surprise, more than half a dozen Peelys burst out of the scrub, and began swarming him. Teaming in Solos sees LazarBeam hit with banhammer Eacott and his potassium-loaded gang seemed to avoid damaging Fresh, save for one rogue banana that went for glory. As the storm closed in though, the Aussie YouTuber looked to put the finishing touches on his prank. The stream-sniping group began trying to fire Fresh into the storm with bounce pads, which the pro was able to avoid. LazarBeam, seemingly ready for a Victory Royale, equipped a gun — an action Epic seemed to take offense to. Within seconds, every Peely opponent chasing Fresh had been slammed with the mid-game banhammer — even ringleader LazarBeam was ejected from the game. With no one left to oppose him, Fresh was handed the victory. The newly-minted Luminosity star took to Twitter to laugh at LazarBeam being banned. Eacott responded soon after, hitting back with another joke: “The only way you can stop my memes is by having Epic employees on your side.” the only way you can stop my memes is by having epic employees on ya side — LAZAR (@Lazarbeam) April 18, 2020 In fairness to Epic, “teaming” against players in solo queue is a bannable offense, according to the battle royale’s TOS. LazarBeam was likely ready to cop a hit from the hammer and be banned if he was caught mid-prank. Luckily for LazarBeam and his compatriots, it seems like the banhammer may have just been for that game too. Usually, “teaming” carries a three-day in-game ban, but it requires a report; Fresh is unlikely to file one of those against his friend. The mid-game ban can’t have helped the Aussie YouTuber’s stance on Fortnite though. He’s been vocal in recent times about the game’s “pointless” UI changes, and voiced his concern over Season 2 in general too.

LazarBeam claims Fortnite has been “ruined” by new Makeshift weapons – Dexerto
LazarBeam claims Fortnite has been “ruined” by new Makeshift weapons Epic Games / Instagram: LazarBeamLannan ‘LazarBeam’ Eacott has become increasingly frustrated with the new makeshift weapons introduced in Fortnite Season 6, and he even claimed they have “ruined” the battle royale in Chapter 2. Epic Games turned the Fortnite world upside-down in Season 6 with the introduction of a Primal theme. However, the biggest change was the addition of a new crafting system, which allows players to create and upgrade weapons. The way it works is simple. Players need to find Makeshift Weapons, which are the new basic form. Then, they need to find either Animal Bones or Mechanical Parts and upgrade them into a Primal or Mechanical Weapon. But not everyone is a fan. That includes Aussie content creator LazarBeam, who vented about it both on his latest YouTube stream, and continued his rant on social media after he reached boiling point during another frustrating session with trio teammates Fresh and McCreamy. “F**king amazing game. We just spent f**king 15 minutes harvesting cars just to get f**king sh*t on,” he said. “I can’t wait to load up another game, acquire makeshift weaponry, and then harvest cars to get the decent guns and then sh*t on again. “What a rewarding feeling!” His rage subsided quickly. However, it seems like his opinion on makeshift weapons still stands; the Aussie star followed his initial comments up with a tweet, claiming they “ruin” the game. “Makeshift weapons ruined Fortnite,” he wrote. Of course, not everyone agrees with him. Some players responded to his tweet, insisting that makeshift weapons are “genuinely fun.” However, many others, including Jack ‘CouRageJD’ Dunlop, admitted they also weren’t a fan: “I’m not a fan. It stinks. I get what they’re trying to do,” he said. “Unfortunately, Fortnite was already lacking action for me. Now, they added crafting, more farming, and talking to NPCs to get good guns. I feel like a CRAZY Fortnite game now is 10 kills.” I’m not a fan. It stinks. I get what they’re trying to do. Unfortunately, Fortnite was already lacking action for me. Now, they added crafting, more farming, and talking to NPCs to get good guns. I feel like a CRAZY Fortnite game now is 10 kills. — Jack “CouRage” Dunlop (@CouRageJD) April 12, 2021 The new crafting system was always going to be polarizing. It’s a drastic change that adds a whole new element to the game, and not everyone wanted that heading into the new season. There is no doubt it was an innovative way to keep the game fresh. However, if the dissatisfaction among veteran players like LazarBeam and CouRageJD keeps growing, we might see a re-work sooner than expected.

LazarBeam apparently breaks Fortnite world record for longest game ever – Dexerto
LazarBeam apparently breaks Fortnite world record for longest game ever YouTube: LazarBeam/Epic GamesPopular YouTuber Lannan ‘LazarBeam’ Eacott once again put the limits of Fortnite to the test as he recruited a few friends – and viewers – to try and help him set the record for the longest match to date. While many Fortnite players opt to show their skills in the battle royale mode or fight off waves of enemies in Save The World, there are some like LazarBeam who want to see what the game is actually made of. In his “Dumbs**t Science” series, the Aussie content creator has pushed the game to its limit by spawning 1000 bots and seeing if it still runs. Yet, his newest experiment was put to the test during his January 27 stream, as he tried to see if he could last in a battle royale game for more than an hour. With a little help from his friends and fans, the YouTubers stalled for time in a battle royale match – needing to outlast the storm by gathering as many health items as possible. That included picking some up while in the storm. “That’s it, that’s it chat, surely that was an hour,” he called out as his game ended on another player being killed by the storm. “That has to be the longest game in Fortnite history.” As the game finished up and the Aussie returned to the main menu, he quickly checked his stats to see if he had accomplished his goal. Thankfully, his time hadn’t been wasted – managing to keep the game going for almost one hour and five minutes. “It went for an hour!” Lannan called out, standing up from his chair with his arms raised in celebration. “An hour and five minutes! The longest game in Fortnite history! Take a look at it.” Even though an hour-long game is pretty impressive and probably close to being a record, there’s no way to say for certain if Lannan actually achieved a milestone of his own or if he’ll have to retry it again. We’ll just have to wait and see if anyone steps up to the plate to try and knock him off his perch. For now, though, hats off to him because it is still an impressive achievement at the end of the day.

LazarBeam reveals why he’s “already” worried about Fortnite Season 2 – Dexerto
LazarBeam reveals why he’s “already” worried about Fortnite Season 2 YouTube: LazarBeam / Epic GamesYouTuber Lannan ‘LazarBeam’ Eacott, like many other Fortnite creators, has been diving into Season 2 of the battle royale, and while he believes it’s a “great start,” there are a few things that have the Australian star worried. After months of small updates for Fortnite—which led LazarBeam to declare the royale was “dead” if Epic didn’t change things soon—the content floodgates were thrown open with the long-awaited release of mega-expansion Season 2. With it came a new Battle Pass, big map changes, and the return of a handful of Chapter 1’s most popular vaulted weapons, and fans have swarmed back to the title. While LazarBeam was among them, he admitted he still has his doubts. In particular, the Australian star said he believes the Chapter 2 content drop has been “fairly boring” outside of some of its more premium battle pass emotes and skins, and the fact Epic added an “insane” amount of “sick” weapons. With so many things, from on-map vaults, to bosses ruling over places of interest, and deadly new legendary weapons, coming into the game, LazarBeam said he thinks Epic may have backed themselves into a corner in terms of content. “I like the new season, but I can already feel they are gonna have to keep pumping stuff in to make it last,” the YouTuber said soon after the Season 2 release, but did add he’d been enjoying himself so far. “Great start for Epic though!” I like the new season but I can already feel they are gonna have to keep pumping stuff in to make it last. Great start for Epic though GG! — LAZAR (@Lazarbeam) February 20, 2020 He expanded on that idea in his February 20 uploads, where he took a look through the Chapter 2 battle pass, and played his first games in the new expansion. According to the popular creator, Fortnite isn’t in the clear just yet. “Okay, I’m going to give my honest opinion on it all so far: I don’t know if this has saved Fortnite… and I’ve barely played the game so far. The emotes and skins are sick, but everything else, as always, is pretty boring,” he said. Read more: Every Fortnite Season 2 map change revealed – “The theme of the season is cool though, they’ve added an insane amount of new items that I think are sick… I like the skins and emotes. This new season… we’ll see if this is what saves Fortnite.” It wasn’t all doom and gloom for the Aussie Fortnite star as he flicked through the piles of new content and racked up his first Victory Royale alongside duo partner Harley ‘mrfreshasian’ Campbell, however. In his eyes, Epic has definitely “upped their skin game” again. LazarBeam pointed to a number of the pass cosmetics, including Agent Peely, Brutus, and the new “beautiful” Bombs Away! glider. He also said the season’s new feature, where you pick between two skin styles, was “very cool.” “One of the coolest things about the new season is that you can pick if you’re a shadow or a ghost… I reckon that’s pretty cool,” he said, before joking that including options for the battle pass skins had “saved Fortnite by itself.” The related segment in the video below begins at 7:28. While Eacott is holding off from damning Fortnite in Season 2 for the time being, others haven’t been so kind to the battle royale amidst its release hype. Leading the charge has been Twitch star Dr Disrespect, who has famously despised most elements of Fortnite, and the Two Time didn’t hold back in his scathing review of the title’s new content drop this time around either. Despite content creators expressing their concerns about the battle royale eventually ending, there can be no denying right now feels like Christmas for Fortnite players — so drop back in, see what’s changed in the new season, and make your own mind up about the direction of Epic’s flagship title.

Last Song on Drake’s New Album May Be About Playing Fortnite With Ninja – Dexerto
Last Song on Drake’s New Album May Be About Playing Fortnite With Ninja The last song on Drake’s new ‘Scorpion’ album may be about playing Fortnite: Battle Royale with popular Twitch streamer Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins and other high-profile individuals. On March 14th and 15th, the internet was set ablaze when Ninja, one of the most popular streamers across the world, joined forces with Drake, Juju Smith-Schuster, Travis Scott, and Kim Dotcom for a couple games of Fortnite: Battle Royale. Fortnite is the top of the gaming world in terms of players and fans, which has spawned one of the most impressive runs in gaming history in terms of popularity and overall fanfare. Many considered the event of Ninja playing with mainstream stars as a ‘turning point’ for gaming and its bid into mainstream culture, and has revolutionized how many outside of the industry view the community. Set to release on Friday, June 29th, ‘Scorpion,’ Drake’s latest album, appears to contain a song titled ‘March 14th’ after the full tracklist was released just a day before its launch, leading many to question if it has something to do with the Fortnite stream alongside Ninja. Ninja would soon get word of the possibility shortly after the tracklist’s release, and stated he would ‘die’ if such a thing actually happened. However, even though theories are flying across the internet, others believe the song name may derive from when Drake traveled to work on Kanye West’s album, although, everything remains speculation at the time of writing. If the song actually does turn out to be Fortnite related, there is no telling how the gaming community would react.

Lag and Server Issues Once Again Plague Fortnite ‘Summer Skirmish’ Tournament – Dexerto
Lag and Server Issues Once Again Plague Fortnite ‘Summer Skirmish’ Tournament LoL / Epic GamesIt appears that lag and server issues have once again surfaced as a major issue for Epic Games’ custom and private matchmaking in Fortnite The Day One tournament of the Fortnite ‘Summer Skirmish’ $500K Week 6 competition was ended prematurely due to players getting kicked off of the private servers. The Week 6 tournament mostly went as smoothly as possible; the European region played their five matches early on August 17, with the North American region following suit later in the day. However, midway through the fifth and final match of the NA half, players began experiencing heavy lag, with some even getting expelled from the server. Epic Games decided to end the match there and restart it, with all of the statistics and points accumulated during that match getting reset. Unfortunately, the same issues began flaring up in the second go-around, this time even deeper into the match and closer to its again. This prompted Epic into stopping the match once again, and it was initially announced that it would be played for a third time. However, after a brief break, the announcers said that the match would not be replayed, and any points accumulated by the teams would count towards the official standings. The remaining three teams that were still alive in Match 5 at the time were later credited with a Victory Royale Read More: Recap and Current Standings of Fortnite ‘Summer Skirmish’ $500K Week 6 Tournament (Day One) – NA and EU – With Day Two of this week’s event schedule for August 18, Epic faces a very short turnaround time to get their issues fixed and resolved. Laguna Fortnite starter pack leaked following V8.10 patch – Dexerto
Laguna Fortnite starter pack leaked following V8.10 patch The next ‘starter pack’ in Fortnite has been leaked via the game files discovered in the v8.10 update – and it will add a fruity flavor to how players who purchase the pack look. Data miners have been hard at work following the recent v8.1 update, which added a brand new vehicle to the battle royale game, to leak a whole host of new content to fans earlier than expected. While there is no official name for this upcoming starter pack just yet, the name of the skin and its accompanying back bling and wrap are known thanks to Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR. The female skin is called Laguna, with its description of “Storm the Beach.” The name of the Back Bling in the starter pack is called ‘Pineapple Strummer’ – which looks to take the form of a guitar in a Pineapple design. Finally, the wrap is called ‘Pineapple’ – which is pretty self-explanatory as to what that will look like. The starter pack will also include a currently unknown amount of V-Bucks, so you get a bit more bang for your buck with the purchase. Previous starter packs have come with 600 V-Bucks, so it’ll likely be the same for this one. The new starter pack is just a smaller part of a whole host of new skins and cosmetics that have been uncovered following the first update to Fortnite Season 8. There is currently no information as to when this starter pack will be available in the Fortnite store to purchase, or just how many V-Bucks you’ll have to spend to acquire it but keep following Dexerto for all the breaking news and updates from this v8.10 patch.

Lachlan shows off “revolutionary” Fortnite stream features – Dexerto
Lachlan shows off “revolutionary” Fortnite stream features Epic GamesAustralian Fortnite star Lachlan Power has unveiled a “revolutionary” facecam feature that reflects his status in-game, adding a “never before seen” layer of immersion to his content. Closing in on 15 million YouTube subscribers, Lachlan has just about seen and done it all when it comes to Fortnite. The popular content creator has his own Icon Series skin in-game, not to mention his own esports organization as well. Not resting on his laurels, however, Lachlan has now unveiled the next step in facecam innovation. Anytime the veteran player is in a game of Fortnite moving forward, his stream overlay will be reacting in the moment to everything that’s happening. We’ve seen production values skyrocket over the years in the streaming space. Though this new functionality could just be the “future” when it comes to Fortnite content, according to Lachlan. Today I present a new level of immersive @FortniteGame content creation. This reactive feature will be available for all of my Fortnite streams, Live exclusively on https://t.co/ZG5vtW5mVq pic.twitter.com/2cyM0FC09w — PWR Lachlan ⚡️ (@LachlanYT) January 7, 2021 The main goal of this new technology was to “directly reflect [Lachlan’s] in-game health.” Whether he’s at full HP or critically injured, his stream overlay will now display that information. Rather than a static background, the new feature is fully animated and always reacting in real-time. Lachlan will have a bright green background when fully healed. Meanwhile, a flashing blue overlay will appear when he’s at max HP and shields. Conversely, the feature also has some unique looks for the opposite side of the coin. When in danger, fans will truly know the state of Lachlan’s run. If he’s moments away from death, his background will turn black with a red flash. Instead of keeping an eye on Fortnite’s health bars, players can simply watch Lachlan and automatically know how he’s tracking. It’s a new sense of “immersion never before seen in Fortnite,” he explained. This was custom-built from the ground up just for Lachlan. Though it’s likely to inspire tons of content creators to follow suit. Fortnite streamers could all hop on the trend to give their communities the best viewing experience possible. Lachlan still has a ways to go to catch up to the likes of Dr Disrespect when it comes to production value. Though it’s clear this unique functionality puts him well ahead of the pack in the Fortnite scene.

Lady Gaga finally discovered what Fortnite is as musician headlines Festival Season 2 – Dexerto
Lady Gaga finally discovered what Fortnite is as musician headlines Festival Season 2 Epic GamesFortnite Festival Season 2 reveals are finally happening, with Lady Gaga set to become the upcoming season’s icon. Fortnite Festival launched back in December alongside the debut of Chapter 5 Season 1, as a new playable mode that pays homage to legendary musical games like Rockband. As part of the hype, The Weeknd headlined the new mode with an in-game concert, and plenty of his notable works also joined in on the fun. His arrival opened the floodgates for more star-studded crossovers, although time will tell who Epic Games would bring in. Festival Season 2 is set to arrive relatively soon, and another star joins Festival’s musically talented cast — Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga is Fortnite Festival Season 2’s icon The news came from plenty of reliable sources such as iFireMonkey and ShiinaBR, staples of the Fortnite community. However, the best confirmation comes from the source herself, as Lady Gaga shared an update to an iconic tweet from 2019, where the singer asked “What’s fortnight?” Details are still scarce on what to expect from the upcoming collaboration. However, if it’s anything like The Weeknd’s debut, players can expect a myriad of cosmetics and a concert for Lady Gaga, possibly all assembled with a special Festival event. Fortnite Festival Season 2 is expected to arrive with patch 28.30, which will supposedly be the final update of the season before Chapter 5 Season 2 starts.

Lachlan explains why he “loves” Fortnite Season 2 – Dexerto
Lachlan explains why he “loves” Fortnite Season 2 L: LachlanYT R: Epic GamesFortnite Chapter 2, Season 2 is out now, and Lachlan is a huge fan of all of the changes so far – especially the new Drum Gun. The start of Season 2 on February 20 saw a couple of new map changes, with the most major of them all being the center island becoming The Agency. This new location is loaded up with Henchmen who drop keycards after being eliminated which can then be used to open chests and vaults. Mida’s Drum Gun, a new and powerful weapon, can also be found here and it can completely shift the tide of a match. Lachlan managed to get his hands on one, and quickly fell in love with its strength. “Like, it is actually broken, and I love it,” he said after eliminating a couple of players with the new gun. (Quote begins at 12:06) Fellow Fortnite streamer Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins also had a similar reaction about this gun, calling it “disgusting” and apologizing for its existence after wiping out an enemy player. Read More: How to get Deadpool skin Fortnite Season 2 – Lachlan goes on to explain that he’s a big fan of everything Epic did with this new season, which is a nice change of pace from how many players felt about the game in the not so distant past. He’s particularly wondering how the new Drum Gun is going to work in a competitive setting. “These new, like, power items are gonna be so interesting, especially from a competitive standpoint,” he said. “Drum Gun’s gonna be good, but there’s a grapple and I think there’s a Heavy Sniper.” With the exception of those concerns, it sounds like things are going great for him so far in the new season. “Insane,” the YouTuber explained. “Love what they’ve done here, and I can’t wait to play more of it.” Read More: How to open loot vaults in Fortnite Season 2 – The start of a season is also just the beginning for Epic Games and players will surely expect more content coming soon in Fortnite, perhaps as early as next week.

Fortnite players slam Korra’s Air Glider animation for inaccuracies – Dexerto
Fortnite players slam Korra’s Air Glider animation for inaccuracies Epic GamesFortnite players are disappointed that Korra’s glider animation does not accurately reflect its depiction in The Legend of Korra. As promised, Avatar: The Legend of Korra’s protagonist joined Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 on April 2. In addition to a skin modeled after the hero, Fortnite players can unlock her Air Glider, Avatar Cycle Back Bling, an emote, and more. Fans of both properties have already taken a liking to Korra’s arrival on the Island. However, many were instantly put off by one key detail – the Air Glider’s animation is far from accurate. Instead of soaring along with arms and legs outstretched horizontally, characters who use Korra’s glider do so with their feet hanging down. This even applies to Korra, to the chagrin of fans. Fortnite players highlighted the discrepancy in a Reddit post that’s gaining lots of attention. As user tomtrax points out, the Air Glider itself comes with footholds as featured in the TV series. The assumption is that Korra and other Fortnite characters won’t make use of the Air Glider’s footholds because every glider needs to feature the same animation for hitbox purposes. Others noted, however, that exceptions were made in the past for Batman’s Zero Wing Glider. One such comment in the thread reads: “They also LITERALLY HAVE AN animation for that with the Batman Glider.” But, according to longtime players, Zero Wing entered the mix before competitive-related hitbox concerns started swaying design decisions in this manner. Many in the thread made it clear that they’d take accurate animations over hitbox troubles any day. One Redditor wrote in part, “Enough already! Just give us cool gliders and glider animations. You’re already limiting what skins can be used outside of BR…just limit what gliders can be used in ranked/comp.” Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 isn’t exactly hitting it out of the park in the glider department.

One of the songs from my AOTP album is out now on Fortnite 👀 pic.twitter.com/p186LEbkFg — ksi (@KSI) June 27, 2021 What Fortnite Radio station is KSI’s song on? KSI fans looking to hear the new track before the rest of the world will be able to do so by tuning into Fortnite Radio, the in-game music service that features multiple stations with loads of hit songs. Gang Gang is currently playing on Beatbox Radio in the game. In order to hear it, players simply need to get into a car, cycle through the radio stations, and then wait on Beatbox Radio until the song plays. The collaboration isn’t that unexpected, as KSI has been known to play Fortnite in the past. Now, after debuting his new track in the game, fans have been wondering if KSI and Fortnite have more planned – perhaps a skin? Or maybe even a live concert like Travis Scott and Marshmello have done? KSI has already expressed his interest in doing a virtual Fortnite show, previously telling Epic Games: “If you need someone to perform, I’m out here.” We’ll have to wait and see what happens, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a virtual KSI concert!

Kobe Bryant is investing in Epic Games, but not because of Fortnite – Dexerto
Kobe Bryant is investing in Epic Games, but not because of Fortnite Bryant Stibel / Epic GamesKobe Bryant’s investment firm Bryant Stibel has made huge investments into Epic Games, and other game companies. But in an interview on CNBC at the Stock Exchange, he revealed that it’s not just because of the popularity of Fortnite. If there’s one thing in common between Fortnite and Kobe, it’s that they don’t let off the gas when they want to takeover. Since retiring from the NBA in 2016, Kobe Bryant has been more productive and active in retirement than most people are in their entire lives. His investment firm Bryant Stibel, founded in 2013 with entrepreneur Jeff Stibel, has invested millions of dollars into numerous venture businesses and companies, including a couple of gaming companies. Bryant and Stibel were on CNBC on the morning of September 19th, and Kobe was asked about the growth of gaming in America. Due to an issue with his earpiece, Kobe wasn’t able to answer the question, but Stibel jumped in to answer, and revealed the bigger reason for investing in Epic Games, apart from Fortnite. “Gaming is critically important to the cultural ecos, but it’s not just about the games, …we’re actually trying to invest in the platforms. Fortnite is owned by Epic, and their Epic engine is building hundreds of games for themselves and the businesses that are using it.” By “Epic engine,” Stibel is of course referring to the Unreal Engine, one of the most well-known and widely used game engines that is available for a relatively low cost to aspiring and professional game devs. Some recent releases that run on Unreal Engine 4 are Borderlands 3, Gears 5, Sea of Thieves, and many more. Stibel also called attention to another one of their ventures, Scopely, a mobile games company that’s received over $250 million in raised venture capital in a short history. They make games such as Star Trek: Fleet Command, WWE Champions, and Walking Dead: Road to Survival. But Stibel praised them for more than just their games: “Their Star Trek game has been a huge hit, but behind that is the revenue engine. And they’ve done that for games other than what they own.” “That’s what we’re really looking for, the fundamentals behind what everyone is seeing on the consumer side.” By choosing to invest in companies that make the foundations for games rather than just the games themselves, Bryant Stibel is setting themselves up for big success. As Kobe demonstrated during his NBA player career, he’s never satisfied with the amount of success he currently he has. Mamba wants more.

Kingdom Hearts 4 needs a Fortnite world and it’s not impossible – Dexerto
Kingdom Hearts 4 needs a Fortnite world and it’s not impossible Square Enix just announced Kingdom Hearts 4, and fans are already fantasizing about Star Wars and Marvel fitting into the Disney action RPG… but a Fortnite world could be the key to these crossovers. There are two things that everyone knows about the Kingdom Hearts franchise: It’s the RPG that features Disney characters, and it has a confusing storyline that spans 10+ games. But in the early days of Kingdom Hearts, it was the former that enthralled players. Sora, a teenage island boy, teamed up with iconic Disney supporting characters Goofy and Donald. Their mission was to save King Mickey and a heap of Disney worlds from being overtaken with darkness. This simple formula is what attracted many to the first two titles before the storyline became the convoluted behemoth it is today. Even still, when a new Kingdom Hearts game is announced, players can’t help but wonder what new Disney worlds will be included this time around. Kingdom Hearts could use a Fortnite world Since the first games, Disney has acquired quite a few franchises. The two most notable in its arsenal are Star Wars and Marvel. As such, players hoped to see either one in Kingdom Hearts 3, but Tetsuya Nomura confirmed their absence was due to a contractual issue. However, there is a game that both franchises have appeared in quite frequently, and that game is Fortnite. It would seem that Epic Games has a healthy relationship with Disney as they produce content for Fortnite at least once a season. Marvel heroes have taken residence on Fortnite’s island more so than Star Wars. In fact, writers for Marvel have confirmed that Fortnite is canon in the Avengers comics. So it wouldn’t be a stretch to say Square Enix could include a Fortnite world in Kingdom Hearts 4 in order to shoehorn both Marvel and Star Wars into Sora’s next adventure. Appeasing two fanbases with one zone When it comes to fan-led discussions about Star Wars and Marvel making it into Kingdom Hearts, there are two heated sides to the debate. Believe it or not, there are those who are vehemently against the inclusion of superheroes in another Square Enix game. Others have argued that Sora and his cartoon friends would feel out of place in a Star Wars world. But he and his compatriots have found ways to blend in with animals, toys, and AI programs. As well, Kingdom Hearts 4 has some pretty dapper graphics that knock off that ‘toonish edge. Given Fortnite’s already vibrant appearance, Sora wouldn’t feel amiss even standing next to an anthropomorphic duck. Bringing Marvel and Star Wars into that world and giving them their Fortnite appearances would help the world feel more cohesive. Kingdom Hearts is technically a multiverse, and Fortnite being a multiverse of its own would make for massive storytelling potential. Square Enix wouldn’t give either franchise a solo world, but would tell a more robust story using the world Epic Games has already built. An irrefutable strategy for success If Fortnite is good for one thing, it is being used as a platform to build hype for upcoming projects. Whether it be movies, music, or other video games, Fortnite is a very effective advertising service. Most of these promotions take the form of crossover cosmetics. The main characters from the work being advertised are brought to life in Fortnite to be used by players long past the media’s point of relevance. When it comes to Fortnite in Kingdom Hearts 4, the reverse can be done to build hype for the game. Sora, Riku, or even Sephiroth could be brought to Fortnite as skins. The Keyblade is a perfect harvesting tool, and Goofy’s shield or a Moogle could make the perfect Back Bling. Fortnite already has gaming icons like Master Chief, Kratos, Ryu, and Lara Croft. Sora would be a great addition to the roster, especially wearing his new Kingdom Hearts 4 threads. The issues with Fortnite in Kingdom Hearts While Fortnite has plenty of different video game franchises, Kingdom Hearts has only ever included Disney IPs and Final Fantasy characters. That was, until Kingdom Hearts 3, where there was a distinct lack of Final Fantasy representation. Not to say it isn’t possible for Kingdom Hearts to break out of its mold and include other video games, but that might be going too far beyond what feels reasonable for the series. The only reason Fortnite could get a pass is that there’s enough Disney engrained in it already. Square Enix wouldn’t have to make up some reason why Star Wars or Marvel are in the Fortnite world. Epic Games has already done that. Fortnite is also constantly under attack by evil forces. It wouldn’t be ridiculous to envision Slone or whoever the big-bad is at the time attempting to harness the power of the Heartless to take over the Island. But, who knows what is and isn’t possible? Fans are already making connections between Kingdom Hearts 4’s first trailer and robots from Star Wars. We could get two standalone worlds to appease both fanbases… or maybe Fortnite is the key that connects everything.

Where to find Kit’s Cantina in Fortnite: new Star Wars POI location guide – Dexerto
Where to find Kit’s Cantina in Fortnite: new Star Wars POI location guide Epic GamesFortnite has added an exciting new POI called Kit’s Cantina in the v15.30 update, and it’s based on a popular Star Wars location. Here’s where to find it on the map. Season 5 of Epic Games’ popular battle royale Fortnite arrived in December 2020 with a ‘bounty hunter’ theme, and it’s been spearheaded by one of the biggest pop culture icons of the moment: The Mandalorian. He first appeared in the hit Disney+ Star Wars spin-off of the same name, and has since made his way to The Island as both a Boss fight and an unlockable skin, complete with mythic weapons and multiple cosmetics to unlock. Mandalorian fans will be glad to hear there’s more themed content to come, as the v15.30 update has added not only a Mando’s Bounty LTM, but also an entirely new point of interest on the map that’s been inspired by a popular Star Wars location. Kit’s Cantina location in Fortnite Season 5 The new Mandalorian-themed POI is called Kit’s Cantina. It appeared as a surprise addition to The Island in the Fortnite v15.30 update, and is based on the iconic Mos Eisley Cantina from the Star Wars movies. Kit’s Cantina is located in the sand-covered area at the center of The Island. It’s not a named location on the map, but you can find it on a cliff edge northwest of Hunter’s Haven and northeast of Weeping Woods. We’ve marked its exact location on the Fortnite Season 5 map below: As well as a ton of Mandalorian iconography that will keep Star Wars fans happy, the POI also comes loaded with multiple chests to loot, and you’ll find The Mandalorian boss himself walking around nearby. “Need a break from the hunt? Stop by Kit’s new cantina on The Island, located in the desert. Your name is already legendary there,” reads the official POI description from Epic Games. There’s also a hidden instrument that has a ‘play’ command, although it doesn’t do anything right now. It’s likely that this will be part of a weekly challenge in the coming weeks, before Season 5 ends on March 15. If you’re visiting Kit’s Cantina over the coming days, you’ll be faced with not only The Mandalorian boss battle, but also plenty of other players who are eager to see the new POI, so come prepared for a fight.

With the rise of Fortnite Battle Royale in 2018, many broadcasters have expanded their viewership to include the youngest of gamers. Ben ‘DrLupo’ Lupo is one of these broadcasters as his popular stream on Twitch has inspired one young viewer to create an amazing Halloween costume this year. DrLupo’s iconic setup featuring multiple monitors and his signature chair were faithfully created in this costume that was posted to Twitter by the fan’s mother. That’s right my kid’s awesome! The creative kid’s mom said that the pictures used were ones that he really liked and depict DrLupo’s son, Charlie, saying hello to fellow streamer Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins on stream. It only took a couple hours for the costume to reach DrLupo who was quick to retweet the fan’s costume, calling him a “freakin’ legend.” Turns out that Luke is actually a DrLupo superfan, as his mom also shared a video of a song that he made in the streamer’s honor. This was just another example of the gaming community’s extreme dedication to coming up with some of the most creative and inventive creations out there.

Kid steals parent’s card to spend $1,200 in Fortnite A Fortnite fan might be in big trouble after sneaking their parents credit card to rack up $1,200 of in-game charges. Fortnite: Kid that designed the Tender Defender skin has the best reaction to finding it in-game – Dexerto
Fortnite: Kid that designed the Tender Defender skin has the best reaction to finding it in-game Getting your own Fortnite skin concept added to the game would be exciting for even the biggest of designers, but for a child who submitted their own – and has no idea it’s been added – it’s even cooler. On September 12, Reddit user ‘tfoust10’ posted a photo of his son Connor’s request to Epic Games to add his ‘Chicken Trooper’ skin idea to the game. Well, two months later and, after help from artists who gave the skin more detail and life, the Fornite publishers made his wish come true and added the ‘Tender Defender’ skin to the game. However, Connor did not know about the in-game skin until his dad posted a YouTube video of his reaction. The video begins with tfoust10 and Connor flanked by family members flicking through the Fortnite catalogue, to see, in tfoust’s words if there is “anything good” because he wants to get “something cool” as his new in-game skin. After a few seconds, Connor’s father – who is yet to reveal to his son what he’s looking for – switches on his phone’s forward-facing camera to capture a closer reaction for what is about to come. “Tender Defender!” Connor shouts out. “We’re buying it! We’re buying it! We’re buying it!” The excitement is clear to see as the youngster, with a beaming smile on his face, leaps forward to get a closer look. “What the heck? It’s in the game!,” his brother shouts with excitement. “What?! No way!,” comes another cry of excitement from the room. The whole room is abuzz at seeing Connor’s creation, albeit with a little polish, come to life in one of the world’s popular games.

Kevin Feige claims Fantastic Four movie was inspired by Fortnite events – Dexerto
Kevin Feige claims Fantastic Four movie was inspired by Fortnite events Epic Games / MarvelKevin Feige claims the appearance of Galactus in the new Fantastic Four movie was inspired by his role in Fortnite’s story. As the D23 event comes to a close, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige had a huge crossover reveal for fans. It turns out the studio head wants The Fantastic Four: First Steps to incorporate Galactus’ depiction in Fortnite into the movie because it portrayed the character so well. Marvel expert Brandon Davis revealed Feige “sent the Fortnite where Galactus destroyed the island to the team working on Fantastic Four: First Steps because he thought it was so well done.” Galactus, as a character, was the major antagonist of Fortnite: Battle Royale with his actions leading up to The Devourer of Worlds Live event. This was the end event of Season 2: Chapter 4 which featured Galactus, Tony Stark, Stark, Wolverine, Thor, and others. Although Galactus is no longer in the game, his actions had both a positive and negative effect on the story going forward from Chapter 2: Season 5 to Chapter 2: Season 8, as well as in Chapter 3: Season 2 during the Zero War. Because of the planet eater’s monstrous and everlasting presence within Fortnite, it seems like Feige wants to replicate that within the new Fantastic Four movie. Sources claim the studio president wants “producers to capture the vibe” of the notorious villain. Galactus has previously been featured in a live-action movie. The giant was the main villain in 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. However, Silver Surfer’s Galactus was shown as a smoke monster instead of a giant man-like figure in purple armor. This version of the Fantastic Four villain was not received well, so it makes sense why Feige would want his interpretation to lean more towards a more comic book-accurate portrayal. Ex-NBA champion pulls brutal prank after kids rack up $16k Fortnite bill – Dexerto
Ex-NBA champion pulls brutal prank after kids rack up $16k Fortnite bill Wikimedia/Epic GamesEx-NBA star Kendrick Perkins has shared the brutal prank he played on his kids, after they racked up a $16,000 bill buying skins on Epic Games’ Fortnite. Kendrick Perkins spent 15 years in the NBA, representing multiple franchises during his time as a Center in the world’s best basketball league. He is probably best known for his time on the Boston Celtics or the Oklahoma City Thunder, but won his only NBA title with the former back in 2008. During his time in the league Perkins gained something of a reputation as a prankster, a characteristic he exhibited once again in early-April, when he shared details of a brutal prank played on his children. During an appearance on the hugely popular sports podcast ‘Pardon My Take‘, Perkins shared the hilarious details of a brutal prank he played on his kids after they racked up a $16,000 bill from buying skins. When asked by the show’s hosts for details, Kendrick replied: “These kids are driving me crazy! They ran up my credit card bill so what I did now is I took my credit card number off their cell phones… They’re only allowed to get on video games on the weekend, and the maximum amount they’re allowed to spend is $10.” Perkins explained that he actually got his money back, citing a rule that under-16s’ purchases can be refunded if it becomes clear that there was no adult authorization. Topic starts at 41:30 & 51:30: The ex-NBA champion then went on to tell the hilarious story of how he originally discovered that his kids had hit $15,000 credit card limit. “I’m like how did I get $16,000?” he said. “So, I go back and look at the credit card statement and it’s just … Fortnite. It was video games: $269, $300 here, $300 there, I’m like, what?!” Despite being a free game, Fortnite players can spend money on skins and battle passes, and it seems Kendrick’s children were buying skins for themselves and their friends. This led Kendrick and his wife to hatch a brilliant revenge plan. “What we did was we went to the pawn shop and we went and bought a PlayStation, an old one, for like 30 bucks. So, we went and bought one that looked exactly like theirs, and we threw it in the pool,” Perkins explained, sending the show’s hosts into fits of laughter. “We hid the one that they had because they were punished. But when they got home from school, we made them go out there and look at it, and we left it in there for like a week,” he added. “And every time they would go, they would literally break down in tears. No exaggeration, I’m taking bawling out in tears. And I was loving every second, though.” The story reached a somewhat brutal conclusion, with Perkins laughing his way through the latter parts. It’s fair to say the story was also relished by the show’s hosts, who were laughing along as the NBA star recollected.

Kentucky high schools ban “violent” Fortnite from varsity esports events – Dexerto
Kentucky high schools ban “violent” Fortnite from varsity esports events Epic GamesKentucky high schools have banned Fortnite from officially sanctioned varsity competitions, claiming the Battle Royale game and other shooters like it are “too violent.” Despite Fortnite’s depictions of fantasy violence being far removed from reality, it seems that Epic’s game has once again been deemed too much for young minds to handle by someone who doesn’t quite understand it. The Kentucky High School Athletic Association has banned the game from all varsity competitions for being “too violent,” despite it being one of the most popular games in the 12-to-25-year-old age bracket. “There is no place for shooter games in our schools,” comissioner Julian Tackett said in an email obtained by Kentucky.com. “We did not know about the addition and are strongly against it.” While Fortnite is not as wildly popular as it once was, it’s by no means slouching, often fighting for the top slot on Twitch and other streaming platforms. This is in addition to its presence as one of the top esports titles in the world, which PlayVS has offered to high school students around the country as an inter-mural competition. “I want to personally assure you that we, along with the NFHS Network are proactively taking steps to have this decision reversed,” Tackett said in the email. “There is no place for shooter games in our schools. This announcement was particularly troubling in that it came on the anniversary of one of Kentucky’s darkest days, the Marshall County incident.” Kentucky, like many states in the United States, has seen tragedy related to gun violence. The Marshall County incident in question saw two students killed and several injured in the 2018 shooting. He continued to say that any Kentucky school that was part of the Athletic Association was barred from playing in any official capacity, be it through their partner PlayVS, or any other organization. High school coaches seem to be okay with the ban, as the same article quoted Damian Layman of Boyle County High School’s esports team. “When you start getting into the shooter-style games, I believe there’s a line,” said Laymon. “At the high school level do you want to be a part of that?” The organization voted to require the written approval of principals, superintendents, and parents before students are even allowed to play League of Legends, Riot’s MOBA mega-hit. While LoL does have many depictions of violence, its mechanics are not defined as a shooter, and thus seem to have at least escaped an outright ban. PlayVS has yet to comment on the ban.

Keeping Golden Chickens locked up is the best way to farm gold in Fortnite – Dexerto
Keeping Golden Chickens locked up is the best way to farm gold in Fortnite Epic GamesThe addition of Golden Chickens in Fortnite gives players a new way to quickly farm gold through golden eggs. Golden Chickens were added to Fortnite in one of the updates at the beginning of the season. These chickens will occasionally leave behind golden eggs that when collected, will drop 350 gold. One Redditor discovered that chickens can be picked up and carried into small spaces. When moved the chicken will continue to periodically lay eggs. When confined, chickens will stack up eggs until the entire area is filled with them. Although it will take some babysitting to ensure that the chickens don’t escape. As demonstrated in the post, the two players kept the two chickens in the house for the majority of the game. Which resulted in 20 eggs being laid, or 10 eggs per chicken. If collected, the total gold earned from those two chickens would equal 7,000 gold. For comparison, the maximum gold a player can have at one time is 5,000. Meaning that collecting these chickens is a sure-fire way to get as much gold as you need. Commenters beneath the Reddit post called the tactic “genius” which, makes sense given the output of gold. Fortnite’s gold system isn’t new to Chapter 5 but does play a big part in winning the game. Gold is dropped from players and collected through eggs, vaults, safes, and cash registers scattered around the map. Gold can be spent in a variety of ways, such as purchasing guns or ammo from vending machines, buying attachments for weapons, or hiring NPCs to fight alongside you. This means that getting the maximum amount of gold is critical to ensure a win. So next time you hop into a battle royale lobby, be on the lookout for Golden Chickens in the wild. If captured, they could become the best source of farming gold in the entire game.

KEEMSTAR’s ‘Friday Fortnite’ Tournament Receives Last Minute Rule Change Following Compelling Rant by Nadeshot – Dexerto
KEEMSTAR’s ‘Friday Fortnite’ Tournament Receives Last Minute Rule Change Following Compelling Rant by Nadeshot Popular YouTuber and host of ‘DramaAlert’ Daniel ‘KEEMSTAR’ Keem has made a last minute rule change reversal for week three of his ‘Friday Fortnite’ celebrity tournament. This comes after 100 Thieves owner Matt ‘Nadeshot’ Haag, who is participating in the competition, tweeted out a video challenging KEEMSTAR’s initial decision to change the tournament’s rules in the first place. The rule change in question was made to the tournament’s Losers Bracket, which had a best-of-two format for the competition’s first two weeks. Just as with the Winner’s Bracket, teams competing in the Losers Bracket would play two games, tallying up their respective kill totals in both games to determine the winner, with a third match played in the case of a tie. However, for week three, KEEMSTAR decided to change the Losers Bracket to a best-of-one, do-or-die format, with each round being determined by a single match. Read More: KEEMSTAR’s Friday Fortnite Celebrity Tournament #3 Bracket, Rules, and Live-Streams – ft. Ninja, Roman Atwood, Tory Lanez, and more! – Not a fan of this rule change, Nadeshot tweeted out a video to KEEMSTAR in which he lays out his argument for why the Losers Bracket should remain as it was. In the video, he claims that one of the main purposes of ‘Friday Fortnite’ is to inspire the creation of quality Forntite content, and the rule change severely limits that, especially to the players who face elimination in the early rounds of the competition. KEEMSTAR replied to this tweet with a video of his own, in which he basically agrees with Nadeshot’s argument and promises to do his best to reverse the rule change. Surprisingly, he managed to get the rule change reversed just in time for it to be in effect for week three of ‘Friday Fortnite,’ announcing it on Twitter an hour before the tournament was set to kick off. After a last min discussion the majority decided that Loser Brackets will remain 2 games in week 3!#FridayFortnite starts in 1 hour!https://t.co/JItBIYou2T — KEEM (@KEEMSTAR) May 25, 2018

KEEMSTAR Releases the Impressive Viewership Figures for the Second Friday Fortnite Tournament – Dexerto
KEEMSTAR Releases the Impressive Viewership Figures for the Second Friday Fortnite Tournament Popular YouTuber, and the brain behind the “Friday Fortnite” tournaments, Daniel ‘KEEMSTAR’ Keem, has shared the viewership figures for the second iteration of the competition. KEEMSTAR is best known for being the host of “Drama Alert”, a YouTube show that covers the daily news and dramas from the online entertainment and gaming community. He also has his fingers in a number of other pies, though, and one of his most successful projects of late has been the Friday Fortnite tournament, hosted by UMG. The premise is a simple one: bring together the biggest names in the online entertainment and video game streaming industry and have them play one of the most popular games in history, Fortnite Battle Royale. The second Friday Fortnite tournament took place on Friday, May 18th, and was won by YouTuber Typical Gamer and SoaR Gaming’s Thief. It also featured the likes of Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins, Matthew ‘Nadeshot’ Haag, and Ali ‘Myth’ Kabbani. With names like those, viewership was bound to be high. However, KEEMSTAR’s announcement of the figures on May 21st took everyone by surprise: #FridayFortnite week 2 pulled in at least 7 million unique viewers.@Ninja himself pulled 2.4 million on @Twitch . & @TypicalGamer pulled 1.1 million alone on @YouTubeGaming (Keep in mind viewers can be counted twice if they watch multiple streams.) pic.twitter.com/4AJll3Tt7j — KEEM (@KEEMSTAR) May 21, 2018 As KEEMSTAR points out, some viewers may have been counted twice if they switched between two streams, but the estimate of seven million is an impressive one nonetheless. The individual numbers for Ninja and Typical Gamer are truly staggering and once again go to show that the Fortnite hype is not about to slow down any time soon. Don’t be surprised if the May 25th Friday Fortnite tournament breaks 10 million unique viewers.

KEEMSTAR Will Bring Back Friday Fortnite But On One Condition – Dexerto
KEEMSTAR Will Bring Back Friday Fortnite But On One Condition YouTuber and host of DramaAlert Daniel “KEEMSTAR” Keem, has announced that the ‘Friday Fortnite’ tournament could come back – but the community will need to show their support for it first. Friday Fortnite was a weekly tournament hosted by KEEMSTAR and UMG Gaming, which attracted millions of viewers every Friday with top Fortnite streamers and YouTubers taking part. But it was stopped short due to clashes with Epic Games’ own ‘Summer Skirmish’ series, which just finished it’s final week at PAX West. With Summer Skirmish out of the way, fans have been asking KEEMSTAR to bring Friday Fortnite, and he seems open to the idea. But, in typical KEEMSTAR fashion, he wants to ensure that the demand for the tournament is real, and so has set a retweet target for the community to hit. So, if you are in favor of Friday Fortnite returning, make sure you head over to the Tweet below and hit retweet! At the time of writing, the Tweet has just surpassed the half way mark, with over 50,000 retweets. With a week to go, KEEMSTAR is well on track to hitting the goal of 100,000. More: Fortnite YouTuber Marksman Pulls Off Insane Grappler and Guided Missile Win – But His Opponent Wasn’t Impressed – Despite the huge viewing numbers that the Summer Skirmish attracted, Friday Fortnite was equally if not more popular, even with a lower prize pool and no developer support. This largely is down to two reasons – firstly that only popular streamers were allowed to play, and secondly, the format. The duos tournament is focused entirely on eliminations, not victory royales, meaning competitors are always playing aggressively.

KEEMSTAR is Planning to Protest the Fortnite Summer Skirmish Tournaments – Dexerto
KEEMSTAR is Planning to Protest the Fortnite Summer Skirmish Tournaments Daniel ‘KEEMSTAR’ Keem’s Friday Fortnite tournament was pushed out by Epic’s official Summer Skirmish series and now he is looking for revenge. The popular YouTuber, known for his show “Drama Alert,” is planning a Minecraft stream to protest Epic Games. In a series of tweets, KEEMSTAR threatened to pull viewers away from Summer Skirmish as a protest for losing his Friday Fortnite tournament. KEEMSTAR has joked about holding Minecraft tournaments before, leading some to question if the protest is real. The Friday Fortnite tournament was hosted by KEEMSTAR and featured popular streamers playing for $20,000. The format had two teams of two playing in the same squad, unable to interact with each other, with the team that got the most kills advancing. The tournament was not without its issues due to Fortnite’s still evolving esports scene. Epic placed a cap on the amount of money KEEMSTAR could offer, custom servers were not available to use and the format largely ignored Victory Royales – arguably the most important part of Fortnite. Read More: Ninja Shuts Down Stranger Who Ambushes Him on Camera Saying Tfue is Better – “Go find Tfue then” – Epic Games started their own competition in form of the Summer Skirmish and put up $500,000 for each tournament, taking all the big name players away from KEEMSTAR and leading to Friday Fortnite’s cancellation. The Summer Skirmish has also had issues, including lag that caused the first edition to be cancelled.

KEEMSTAR gives a big update on return of Friday Fortnite tournament – Dexerto
KEEMSTAR gives a big update on return of Friday Fortnite tournament The potential return of KEEMSTAR’s Friday Fortnite tournament has been given a major boost, after the Drama Alert host confirmed things were in motion for a comeback event. If unfamiliar, Friday Fortnite was, as the name suggests, a weekly Fortnite tournament held every Friday, with only the biggest streamers and YouTubers invited to play. The tournaments attracted tens of millions of viewers every week across all channels, but KEEMSTAR later had to end the tournament due to clashes with Epic Games’ own ‘Skirmish’ series. Epic Games, developers of Fortnite, also imposed a rule that no third party tournaments could offer prize pools higher than $10,000, and had their million dollar tournaments running over weekends, prompting KEEMSTAR to discontinue Friday Fortnite. However, the community has demanded its return ever since, with the format loved by spectators and players alike – and KEEMSTAR has long been hinting at running another tournament. In his latest Drama Alert video, on January 7, KEEMSTAR states “Speaking of my tournament, Friday Fortnite, it’s returning! Just want to let you know, we’re working on it, it’s going to be out soon. The last we heard about the potential return of Friday Fortnite suggested that KEEMSTAR would stick to Epic Games’ limit of a $10,000 prize pool. Hmmmmm tempting…. cc @Ninja @TTfue @cloakzy @CouRageJD @NICKMERCS @timthetatman @DrLupo @drdisrespect @shroud @summit1g @TypicalGamer @TSM_Hamlinz @TSM_Daequan @TSM_Myth https://t.co/UDwxcOwb3n — KEEM (@KEEMSTAR) January 2, 2019 There are currently no major Epic Games ran tournaments ongoing, although 2019 is set to have a packed schedule, with the Fortnite World Cup starting. It means that currently there is a small window for KEEMSTAR and his team to organize at least one comeback tournament.

Friday Fortnite Set to Clash With Epic Games’ $500K Summer Skirmish Tournament as KEEMSTAR Hits Out on Twitter – Dexerto
Friday Fortnite Set to Clash With Epic Games’ $500K Summer Skirmish Tournament as KEEMSTAR Hits Out on Twitter YouTuber Daniel ‘KEEMSTAR’ Keem is not happy with Epic Games for their inconsistent tournament scheduling. The host of DramaAlert expressed his displease with the fact that the Fortnite developers have apparently scheduled a massive tournament on the same day of his popular Friday Fortnite competition. When the Fortnite ‘Summer Skirmish’ series was first announced, Epic made it clear that their events would be held on Fridays and/or Saturdays. This prompted a disgruntled KEEMSTAR to change the date of the Friday Fortnite weekly tournament to Sundays starting on July 29, meaning that the competition would run on Fridays for at least a several more weeks. Read More: Sources Report That Epic Games Plans to Host $500,000 Summer Skirmish Solos Tournament (Unconfirmed) – However, Epic Games are seemingly refusing to wait that long and have gone ahead and scheduled a $500K Solos tournament for July 18 at 5 PM ET, which is the same exact date and time which the 11th running of Friday Fortnite is to be played. This hasn’t sat well with KEEM, who posted a video of himself on Twitter expressing his utmost displease at the lack of understanding and cooperation. “Yeah, I’m really disappointed at you guys over at Epic. So, I heard you guys are doing events on Fridays and Saturdays, so I moved Friday Fortnite to Sunday, starting the 29th. That would give you guys plenty of time to get these two Saturday events out. Then, last minute, you planned a Friday event for this Friday! Ok, well I’m sorry, but this is the last insult I’m going to take from y’all. I’m doing Friday Fortnite this Friday! I’m doing it at the same exact time that you’re doing your event, and I’m talking to all these YouTubers right now and they’re playing Friday Fortnite! So, this is what you get for not communicating with, not working with, and just being Epic. You be Epic, I’ll be KEEMSTAR.” A short while afterwards, KEEMSTAR spoke with Epic and posted an update on the situation. Just talked to @EpicGames communications need to be better in the future. Very big misunderstanding. Still running #FridayFortnite this Friday tho. The 29th we move to Sunday’s — KEEM (@KEEMSTAR) July 18, 2018 It remains to be seen which event the YouTubers and streamers that have been invited to both will choose to compete in, despite the large disparity between the two prize pools. According to esports insider Rod ‘Slasher’ Breslau, some content creators have already comfirmed that they will be playing in Friday Fortnite, while others are on the fence. With Epic’s tournament not yet officially announced, @KEEMSTAR will continue to run Friday Fortnite the same day as Epic’s event. Some will elect to play in FF, and pro players/streamers/youtubers are now split between the two. — Rod Breslau (@Slasher) July 18, 2018

KEEMSTAR Explains Why Friday Fortnite is Unlikely to Come Back, Despite Fans Hitting His Retweet Goal [UPDATED] – Dexerto
KEEMSTAR Explains Why Friday Fortnite is Unlikely to Come Back, Despite Fans Hitting His Retweet Goal [UPDATED] UPDATE With the return of Friday Fortnite looking ever more unlikely, KEEMSTAR has revealed revealed that he is considering a move to one of Fortnite’s biggest competitors. Original article… It looks as though fans of the popular ‘Friday Fortnite’ competition are in store for some bad news, as the popular competition apparently won’t be returning after all. YouTuber Daniel ‘KEEMSTAR’ Keem, the creator of Friday Fortnite, has hinted that the competition will likely not be returning, despite him having earlier announced that he was working towards bringing it back. The ‘DramaAlert’ host posted this update on his Twitter page on September 10. Nope! I’m not playing this game again. RiP #FridayFortnite ! It would appear that this sudden change of heart is due to Epic Games announcing another major Fortnite competition – this one a $10 million, six-week long tournament series called ‘Fall Skirmish.’ Of course the reason why KEEMSTAR had cancelled Friday Fortnite after 10 consecutive weeks was due to Epic’s previous competition – the eight-week ‘Summer Skirmish.’ Because the Summer Skirmish featured prize pools that were exponentially larger than the $20,000 awarded weekly in Friday Fortnite, many big-name participants chose to play in Epic’s event rather than Keem’s. With the Summer Skirmish having wrapped up last weekend, the YouTuber announced that he would bring back his popular competition if his tweet hit 100K retweets in a week. Clearly the community wanted Friday Fortnite back as the goal was met in just over a day, however this latest development appears to have proved their efforts for naught. KEEMSTAR doesn’t appear ready to give up yet however, as he has publicly attempted to negotiate with Epic to move their event days to the weekend, allowing him to run his competition on Fridays.

KEEMSTAR Cancels This Week’s $20K Friday Fortnite Celebrity Tournament – Dexerto
KEEMSTAR Cancels This Week’s $20K Friday Fortnite Celebrity Tournament Daniel ‘KEEMSTAR’ Keem has cancelled this week’s running of the Friday Fortnite celebrity tournament. The decision stems from Epic Games scheduling the first half of the $1 million ‘Summer Skirmish’ Duos tournament for Friday, July 20, the same day that the YouTuber’s popular competition was scheduled to be played. KEEMSTAR held out for as long as he could before he ultimately decided to cancel, which he announced late on July 19. #FridayFortnite is canceled for tomorrow.@EpicGames is running their own event & told everyone last min. Yesterday they invited 5 of my players so I was still doing FF now they invited all. They capped FF at $20k & are doing events for $500k. I’m not holding the players back. — KEEM (@KEEMSTAR) July 20, 2018 This essentially puts an end to Keem’s brief standoff with Epic, as he had previously indicated that he would go through with his tournament despite the much larger event being played at the same time. However, with so many of Friday Fortnite’s regular participants also receiving invites to play in Friday’s $500K Summer Skirmish, the YouTuber realized he could not fill up his bracket, which offers a much more modest $20K prize pool due to being capped by Epic’s third-party regulations. Read More: FaZe Fortnite Pro ‘Cloak’ Comments on KEEMSTAR’s Feud vs Epic Games – “Friday Fortnite Helps EVERYONE Out” – This marks the first time in eleven weeks that Friday Fortnite will not be played, with its previous ten tournaments having garnered unprecedented popularity and viewership success. The competition will be back on the 29th and every Sunday afterwards, in order to ensure that big-name content creators can participate in both competitions.

KEEMSTAR announces news for possible return of fan-favorite Friday Fortnite tournaments – Dexerto
KEEMSTAR announces news for possible return of fan-favorite Friday Fortnite tournaments There may be good news in store for all of those who were fans of popular YouTuber Daniel ‘KEEMSTAR’ Keem’s weekly ‘Friday Fortnite’ tournaments. KEEMSTAR tweeted out on January 3 that he was working towards bringing back Friday Fortnite, which apparently happen at the behest of the content creators who are looking forward to its return. “I have some meetings set up to look into bringing back Friday Fortnite,” he tweeted. “The YouTubers and Twitch streamers asked me to bring it back.” This comes days after popular Fortnite YouTuber ‘Nick Eh 30’ publicly reached out to KEEMSTAR on Twitter asking him to bring back the tournament series, after which Keem himself CC’ed the tweet towards some big names like Ninja, CouRage, Tfue, and others, curious about their opinions. Read More: CouRage explains why so many streamers and pro players are annoyed with all the new items – As expected, the news of the potential return of Friday Fortnite has been met with immense excitement from the community, and it’s no major surprise that prominent content creators and casual fans alike are very much looking forward to having the weekly tradition be reinstated. Hmmmmm tempting…. cc @Ninja @TTfue @cloakzy @CouRageJD @NICKMERCS @timthetatman @DrLupo @drdisrespect @shroud @summit1g @TypicalGamer @TSM_Hamlinz @TSM_Daequan @TSM_Myth https://t.co/UDwxcOwb3n — KEEM  (@KEEMSTAR) January 2, 2019 Friday Fortnite was a weekly tournament series that was organized and run by KEEMSTAR and online tournament hosts UMG during a 10-week period from May to July. The series, which normally featured a prize pool of $20,000 each week, became extremely popular soon after its first week, with many of the biggest names in the online gaming community competing regularly. With no access to custom servers, the tournaments were based on the popular “kill-race” format, which involved two opposing Duos teams queuing together into the same public Squads match and trying to get the most eliminations they could. Despite its immense popularity, Friday Fortnite came to a dead halt after Epic Games decided to organize their own competitive series, called Summer Skirmish, which had an $8 million prize pool that attracted a lot of the prominent names that would have normally played in Keem’s tourneys. This led to UMG pulling out of the project and KEEMSTAR waging a messy and public war of words against Epic, claiming that they were suppressing his efforts to hold tournaments with prize pools over $20K and vowing to never involve himself with Fortnite ever again. However, at the behest of a community that’s currently starving for competitive content, Keem is looking to re-enter the Fortnite scene and bring back his competition. However, as his tweet suggests, he has a lot of work to do for that to happen, such as recruiting the right sponsors, online tournament organizers, and players, and establishing an appropriate prize pool, although the amount doesn’t seem to be a major issue for the actual players.

Kai Cenat, Sketch, Duke & more appear in Fortnite’s new mode trailer – Dexerto
Kai Cenat, Sketch, Duke & more appear in Fortnite’s new mode trailer epic gamesFortnite’s new Reload game mode trailer has just dropped, featuring a squad consisting of Kai Cenat, Sketch, Duke, and more. Fortnite is bringing back some of the classic POIs for both new and veteran players to jump in via an all-new Reload game mode. A teaser showcasing what players can expect from this new mode was shown earlier, but in a surprising turn of events, streamers Kai Cenat, Duke, Agent00, Davis, Chris, and Sketch made an appearance in a new trailer shared by the official Fortnite account on YouTube. It starts with Sketch greeting Kai Cenat with, “Yo! What’s up, brother?” before others join and assemble a group in a Fortnite-style squad. The trailer description revealed that players can check out “legendary content creators as they squad up and queue for Fortnite’s newest game mode,” which will be available on June 22, 2024, after 2 pm ET. Aside from that, the description also promises “exclusive footage and gameplay from this new mode” for players. So far, it’s been revealed that the Fortnite Reload mode will be scratching the nostalgia itch as Tilted Towers, Pleasant Park, Retail Row, and other iconic OG POIs make a return. As for how the mode works, according to leaks, the Fortnite Reload mode will have a different reboot mechanic than the current Battle Royale. Instead of collecting Reboot Cards and visiting a Reboot Van to revive their teammates, players can respawn as long as one person is alive in the team. With that in mind, you’ll have to make sure to wipe up an entire team before your enemies have time to respawn or survive long enough for your teammates to come back. This isn’t the first time Fortnite is bringing back the OG experience. Before Chapter 5 started last year, there was a brief Fortnite OG season featuring the Season 1 map, mechanics, and even a Battle Pass with remixed classic skins.

Karma Doesn’t Think Fortnite Will Ever Become a Good Competitive Esport – Dexerto
Karma Doesn’t Think Fortnite Will Ever Become a Good Competitive Esport Damon ‘Karma’ Barlow thinks that Fortnite Battle Royale’s future as a competitive esports title is questionable. The three time Call of Duty World Champion discussed the immensely popular Epic Games title during a recent Twitch stream, saying that it is “the worst possible game to be an esports game”. Despite the push from Epic to bring esports to Fortnite, the Canadian star seems to believe that there are too many obstacles stopping it from being truly competitive. As an explanation for his opinion, Karma says that he doesn’t care what Epic Games does to try to shake things up and that Fortnite is the battle royale title that has the least chance of making it as a competitive esport: “I don’t care what they do, I don’t think there’s any way that game ever becomes good competitively, there’s no way, “Unless they make it so everyone starts killing each other, but I don’t think people are gonna just start fighting. Hello no, “Of all the BRs, I think that is by far the worst one” Fortnite is one of the most popular games in history and Epic Games has made a pledge to invest over $100 million into the esports side of it in the 2018-2019 season. Competitions like Friday Fortnite and Epic’s Summer Skirmish tournaments have already drawn in millions of viewers, but Karma isn’t the only person to believe that the nature of the game doesn’t lend itself to a truly competitive environment. One of the biggest criticisms of any battle royale title trying to become an esport is the random nature of the game, from loot spawns to the closing of the storm/circle. With Fortnite specifically, people are concerned that the building mechanics will mean that players simply create a fort and hide until the end of a game in order to get a good placement. A post from a former MLG admin on Reddit commented on the various problem, using PUBG’s esports scene as an example of the issues that Fortnite will need to overcome if it is to join the likes of League of Legends, CS:GO and Dota 2 as a top esport: “Let’s face it. Battle Royal games were not designed with eSports in mind. There is lots of RNG at play, and thanks to the battle royal genre, CAMPING. We saw this with PUBGs decent into the competitive scene; which lead to almost all teams holding out till the end and avoiding fights. With Fortnite’s building mechanics, this strategy is amplified x1000. PUBG at least had teams fighting over the best cover in the field (rocks, trees, hills etc) whereas in Fortnite no need to do that just build your own metal base all the way in the final circle. An eSport game exists because there is a community of fans willing to watch it. No one wants to watch a bunch of pencil warriors hiding behind their preset edited walls and winning by quadruple campfire on top of a 50ft metal sky base while bandaging.”
