What is the Mech vs Monster event? At the end of Season 8, the giant volcano erupted, sending molten rocks towards Polar Peak which ultimately broke the iceberg and unleashed a monster, later dubbed Cattus, hidden inside. The monster’s full form is yet to be revealed, however, it has been spotted swimming around the Fortnite map on various occasions. Seemingly in response to the danger the monster posed, construction on a giant robot began at Pressure Plant, then called Doggus, presumably to battle the creature somewhere on the Fortnite landscape. The robot’s final form was eventually revealed with various countdowns appearing on the map, signaling when the battle will commence. When is the Mech vs Monster event? The event will take place on Saturday, July 20, kicking off at exactly 2 PM ET / 11 PM PT / 7 PM BST. Epic Games confirmed the time on the various countdowns that appeared over all of the sky platforms scattered around the Fortnite landscape. Like the majority of their recent in-game events, it’s highly likely that players will be forced into a new playlist to watch the battle go down, in order to avoid being eliminated and missing the action. How to warm yourself by the fireplace in the Winterfest Cabin Day 5 challenge The day 5 Winterfest challenge in Fortnite Battle Royale is live, and for this one, you’ll simply need to warm up by the fireplace in the Winterfest cabin. If you’re not sure where this is though, we’ve got you covered. The Winterfest daily challenges are this year’s version of the ’14 days of Fortnite’ event from 2018’s holiday season. Epic Games have stepped things up a bit this time though, with a new menu location to receive the challenges, and presents! Thankfully, for the Day 5 challenge on December 22, you won’t need to go far and low searching for anything, or even do damage to opponents with some obscure weapon. Use the fireplace at the Winterfest Cabin The first step to completing this challenge is to head to the Winterfest cabin, under the Winterfest tab in the menu, where you’ll need to open the stocking to access the challenge itself. Then, quite simply navigate to the crackshot and then click on the fireplace. In addition to completing the challenge, the fireplace will give extra XP or supercharged XP boosts. You can sit at the fire for some time, but eventually, you’ll reach a limit on the amount of XP you’ll receive. How to warm yourself by the fireplace at the Winterfest cabin: Log in to Fortnite – Go to the Battle Royale section – Head to the Winterfest tab – one to the right from the search for game menu – Go into the cabin and retrieve challenge from stocking – Click on the fire – Wait for the challenge to pop as complete – As mentioned, this is the fifth daily challenge so far in the Winterfest 2019 event. How to walk over traps in Fortnite without taking damage Epic GamesFortnite Chapter 4 Season OG has brought back Damage Traps to the game which can prove challenging especially if you have no building materials, so here’s exactly how to walk over traps in Fortnite without taking damage. Fortnite returned to its roots with its highly anticipated Chapter 4 Season OG update which dropped on November 3. Epic Games’s update has already led the game to achieve its highest player count with over 44 million players in just one day. The update has sent fans back to the classic Chapter 1, which includes its iconic map complete with old fan-favorite POIs, weapons, cosmetics, and more. One in-game item that has been unvaulted this season is Damage Traps. These have proven challenging for many players who have been discovering the best ways to avoid damage from traps found on walls, floors, and ceilings. To avoid a Floor Trap in particular, there are a few methods to allow you to walk straight over them and not be hit by their spikes with or without building materials. Here’s exactly how to do just that in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season OG. How to walk over traps in Fortnite Season OG The easiest method if you have building materials and aren’t playing Zero Build Fortnite would be to use the cone method. When approaching a Floor Trap, simply place a pyramid-building piece on top of it, protecting you from the spikes. Stand in one of the corners, and edit the cone so it becomes a larger pyramid forming into a point above your head, leaving the area underneath it clear to move around on. Players can then destroy the cone completely and will be able to move around on the trap without activating it, meaning you won’t get killed by the pesky spikes. This trick works almost identically with wall traps, but instead of placing the pyramid on top of the trap, you place it on the floor directly beside the spikes and then perform the same edits. Be warned that the trick’s effect wears off as soon as you step off the trap, so remember not to walk back on the spikes without carrying out the method again. Jumping will also deal damage while on the trap so make sure to keep your feet on the ground. Alternatively, if you have no materials to build over a Floor Trap in normal or Zero Build then your only option would be to use the baiting method. If there are wall traps also in place then you would need to set these off first by quickly entering the trap in the center with one step and quickly exiting backward. This sets the wall and ceiling traps off first as they are activated further away than the traps on the floor. Then quickly step in again a bit further to set off the Floor Trap and go back once again, then simply just run across the trap. This will give you a short amount of time before all the spikes are reactivated again, so make sure to practice this a few times to avoid being eliminated. The Fortnite x Pirates of the Caribbean event has finally landed in Chapter 5, Season 3, bringing an all-new Cursed Sails Pass, cosmetics, and new items to the Battle Royale. And much like past event collabs, players also have the chance to rack up XP from new challenges. In line with the whole Pirates of the Caribbean theme of this collab, one of the latest Pirate Code quests asks players to walk the plank. While this quest might seem simple, it might be tricky for those who have yet to explore the map or are unfamiliar with the POIs. In this guide, we’ll walk you through where and how you can walk the plank in Fortnite. How to walk the plank in Fortnite The first thing you need to do before walking the plank in Fortnite is visit one of the two ships available on the map. Once you’re there, head to the wooden plank on the ship’s side and walk on it. The first ship can be found at Shipwreck Shallows near Restored Reels. Given that this is in the middle of the map, this location should be easier for you to land on early game. But do keep in mind that this also means you’ll likely have to deal with a bunch of players here wanting to complete the quest, too. As an alternative, you can head to the ship located around the south of Grand Glacier. This location is way more secluded compared to the one at Shipwreck Shallows. So, overall, it might be a safer pick, depending on the battle bus route at the start of the match. That said, before anything else, grab some of the best weapons and shield potions first. With the event just recently made available in Fortnite, you can expect a lot of players storming these locations to complete this quest. Upon walking the plank, you’ll be rewarded with 5,000 XP to help you unlock the Cursed Sails Pass rewards.

How to visit Fortnite’s Coral Cove, Stack Shack & Crash Site Epic GamesFortnite’s Meowscles’ Mischief challenges are now live, and one of the week’s most difficult tasks wants you to visit Coral Cove, Stack Shack, and Crash Site without swimming through any water in one single match. As always, Epic Games have released 10 more challenges for players to sink their teeth into during Fortnite Season 2, with special agent Meowscles from the Battle Pass the focus for the next two weeks, much like TNTina before them. Some of the feline fighter’s challenges are easier than others, but perhaps the most difficult this week sees players tasked with visiting Coral Cove, Stack Shack, and Crash Site in a single match. What makes the challenge even tougher though, is the fact that you won’t be able to dip your toes into any water while attempting it. Where to find Coral Cove, Stack Shack, and Crash Site for Season 2, Week 5 challenges Starting this challenge may prove to be the most difficult part, as none of these locations are marked on the map as points of interest, forcing you to rely on your knowledge and hope you know what these names refer to. For those struggling though, we’ve found all three locations, ensuring everyone knows exactly where they need to go when they decide to take on this task. First off, Coral Cove can be found on the edge of the cluster of islands in the north-west of the map, with a campfire surrounded by buildings using massive shells as roofs. Stack Shack is much trickier to find, as it’s a simple yellow building on an island off the coast of Holly Hedges, with no discernable features to make it stand out. Finally, the Crash Site can be found on the large island directly west of Pleasant Park, where an airplane has clearly plummeted into the earth and broken in half, leaving wreckage in its wake. If finding these places is proving difficult, we have marked all three on the map below. How to visit Coral Cove, Stack Shack, and Crash Site without swimming With all three of these locations sitting on islands, vehicles are the best and easiest way to complete this challenge. The Choppa, added in March 17’s v12.20 Update, will likely prove the quickest, as you can fly directly from one to the other, but a boat should theoretically do the same trick, although it will probably take longer and leave you more exposed. Theoretically, you could also build to each location, however, you would need to gather a lot of materials, and this method would make you ripe for the picking by opponents. Remember, you must visit all three in the same match, so if you don’t make it to your final stop, or the circle doesn’t permit it, you’ll need to start from scratch in your next game. How to use the Quadcrasher and Balloons to fly anywhere on the Fortnite map Clever Fortnite players have already found a way to use the games new Balloons item to rotate to any location on the map. Unfortunately, this manoeuvre can’t be performed alone. You’ll need a teammate to help you out, and you’ll also need to find a Quadcrasher ATV to make this work. However, if you can find the Quadcrasher and some balloons, you can easily combine the two to fly high into the air, get well above the storm itself, and fly to any location on the map you please. As shown by Reddit user ‘WILLYWONG‘, players simply need to acquire the items and then get on the Quadcrasher, making sure that the player who has the balloons is sitting on the back and not in the driver’s seat. The power of the balloons will begin to lift the Quadcrasher, and allow it to float in the air. As the rear player keeps filling new balloons to keep the pair rising, the driver needs to randomly use the Quadcrasher’s boost capabilities to shoot them higher into the air. Using this technique, players can fly high above the storm, bail off the Quadcrasher, and pull their gliders, giving them plenty of time and options to rotate anywhere on the Fortnite map. Fortnite’s new Balloons allow players to float into the air, with players inflating or deflating the items depending on how high they want to go. To accommodate the new item, Epic Games were forced to change the way that fall damage was calculated, changing it from a height-based system to one that determines damage based on the velocity of the fall. The balloons were included in the V6.21 patch for the popular battle royale title, along with the announcement of a new in-game event that’s scheduled to take place on Sunday, November 4.

How to visit all 7 Sky Platforms in Fortnite Battle Royale – Locations and guide for Season 9, Week 1 Epic Gamesv9.00 update. The start of the new Neo Tilted Towers and Mega Mall – to a new futuristic look. That pesky Volcano has also been changed after it’s eruption following the ‘Unvaulting’ event on May 4. It is now known as ‘Pressure Plant’ and plays a key role in some of the early challenges – especially visiting the new Sky Platforms. Fortnite Sky Platforms map It’s a pretty simple challenge to complete, as you don’t really have to interact with other players if you don’t want to. The best way to do it is to hop on out of the battle bus and aim right for the locations that marked on the map above. Sure, other players might be deciding to do the same thing too, but if you want to get the challenge out of the way as soon as possible, drop onto the platforms, wait for your progression bar to pop up and leave the game. You won’t be able to miss the Sky Platforms in-game as they are hovering in the air between the newly introduced slipstreams – looking like a drone. Like the Pirate Camps from Season 8, they appear on the map but you might need eagle vision to see them properly. As long as your challenge progression completes, you can leave the game and repeat the method over and over until the challenge is completed. Fortnite Season 9 challenges Completing the challenge will net you five Battle Stars towards you next Battle Pass level, and seeing as it’s week one, they’re all pretty easy challenges to tick off and get your Season 9 off to a good start.

Where to find boats in Fortnite Chapter 2 Boats are dotted across the map and can be found moored along the river’s edge as you wander across the island. Some named locations do have more than one boat though, so it’s worth seeking them out to get a better chance of nabbing one. We’ve marked locations with multiple boats on the map below. 600How to drive Fortnite’s boat — The basics With the inclusion of the boat in Fortnite, Epic Games have tried to make it as easy as possible to hop in and start zooming across the water as quickly as possible. You can jump into the boat’s driver seat by pressing ‘E’ on your keyboard, or ‘Square’ or ‘X’ on PlayStation or Xbox controllers respectively. A fresh boat has 800 Health Points, but you’ll take some damage every time you crash into an obstacle or get shot by opponents. They seat four people, so are perfect for making full team rotations with your squad, or heading off to a new location in search of loot. How to use the boat’s boosters If you’re looking for a little more speed, the developers have got you covered by attaching two massive boosters to either side of the vehicle. These rockets launch you forward for a short period and have a cooldown time so you can’t continuously spam them by pressing shift on your keyboard or pushing down on your left thumbstick. The boat features a loading bar just to the right of the driver which fills up to show you when your rockets can be fired, but another easy way to know is by watching the boosters themselves, as they will drop to the bottom of the vehicle when they are not ready, and rise up and turn purple to alert you that they can be used. You can even use the rockets to drive the boat along the ground by thrusting out of the water and on to dry land – but be careful, as every second you spend dragging the bottom of your vehicle along the grass will cost you one health point to the boat, meaning it will become gradually easier to destroy over time. How to use the boat’s weapons Not only does the boat have thrusters, but it also packs a punch, with a missile launcher built into the front which launches a rocket at targets. The launcher has a cooldown of three seconds, with each projectile dealing 35 damage points to opponents or structures. While there is no visual trigger to alert you that you can fire the weapon again, the launcher makes an audible click when it’s loaded the next explosive, so listen out for that noise as you prepare to fire. Your mouse or right thumbstick is used to move the crosshairs to provide the ability to aim, while left-clicking or pressing the right trigger on PC or console respectively fires the missile. Mastering the boat is going to be an important string in your bow if you hope to pick up Victory Royales in Chapter 2, as it’s currently the only vehicle available in the game. With so many rotation options, and the added bonus of weaponry to fire at unsuspecting enemies, expect the boat to become a major factor through this season and beyond.

With more accurate aiming and build controls, PC players a distinct advantage over their console counterparts. As more console players entered the competitive scene, some of them, especially those utilizing controllers, showed great skill and rapidly rose to prominence. One feature that has caught the attention of many is the new Sidegrading system – a way to transform your guns into others of the same rarity. How to Sidegrade weapons in Fortnite Leaker Lucas7yoshi was one of the first to share this new system, showing Fortnite’s very simple introduction video, which runs players through the whole process. How to use Fortnite’s Cube to fly around the map without taking damage It’s long been known that Fortnite players are able to shoot at the massive cube to use it’s powers to soar high into the air and fly to another location. Unfortunately, this method means that players end up taking damage from the cube when it blasts back at them in retaliation, and some feel that the damage taken may not be worth the ability to quickly rotate. Thankfully, Reddit user ‘ImSpeedyGonzalez’ has found a way to utilize the cube, affectionately nicknamed Kevin by Fortnite fans, to travel large distances around the map without losing any precious health points. Some Fortnite fans have already noticed that the storm underneath Kevin can lift players into the air when they use a glider, allowing them to land on the fragments of the island that surround the cube. ImSpeedyGonzalez, however, reveals that by aiming for the south-western corner of the northern island fragment after you have dived down underneath the cube, players can actually fly well above the island into the sky, meaning they can quickly rotate away from the area without taking any damage. ImSpeedyGonzalez says that he has tested it with the other islands that surround the cube, but found the most consistent results when using the northern island. Unfortunately, this method doesn’t allow players to fly the whole way across the map like you can when shooting the cube, but it still allows players to make it all the way to locations such as Wailing Woods, Retail Row and even to the edge of Fatal Fields.

How to use Fortnite’s new marking system to estimate bullet drop when sniping There are several benefits to the newly revamped World Marker system in Fortnite Battle Royale, one of which is that it gives the ability to estimate bullet drop. Inspired by the Ping system in Apex Legends, Epic Games made vast improvements to the World Marker system at the start of Season 8, as it now allows players to mark weapons and items on the map for their teammates to see. It also allows enemies to be marked as well, and the distance indicator that’s part of this new system is a perfect tool for players to estimate how far their bullet is going to drop when they try to snipe the enemy. The estimation process is pretty simple – once an enemy is marked, just aim in at them with your sniper and use the small lines on the scope to determine where to aim the crosshairs. Since the distance of how far the enemy player is from you will be indicated on the marker, you simply have to match up the correct dash line on the scope with the shoulder level of the player. According to the image above, the first dash under the crosshairs is for 125 meters, followed by 250m and 375m for the next two. So, for example, if an enemy player is 289 meters away, you have to try and approximate the area between the 250m and 375m dashes that will match that distance and aim that at the head of the enemy. Granted, this system is obviously neither perfect nor foolproof, as players will often times be forced to make estimates between dash lines that may not turn out to be correct. However, what this does offer is a major improvement and buff to sniping, as there is no doubt that we will start to see more and more players start hitting more and more snipes, especially from longer distances. This technique is especially important for the first snipe shot that players attempt when engaging an enemy, which is often the only clean chance as bullet trails will warn them that they’re getting sniped. It will be interesting to monitor the level that this will take sniping, and whether or not Epic will have to make any more balancing adjustments down the line.

Ever since their release in-game, Fortnite fans have been complaining about the custom superhero skins as they gave the owners the ability to be completely black (or completely white), which in-turn caused visibility problems for enemy players. Before the release of v15.30, Epic confirmed that they would be fixing the issue in that update, claiming that players would no longer be able to make their characters that way. Now that the update is here, while the lighting has been changed around the map, some have already discovered a workaround in order to get your superhero skin how it was pre-patch. How to use the all black and white OP superhero skins in Fortnite Given the fact that it’s not supposed to work anymore, getting the skins to be all black or all white is a bit complicated now that update 15.30 is out in the wild. That being said, thanks to Twitter user GlitchKing15, we now know the steps you need to take in order to get it to work. Here’s what they are, how they work, and how to get them. In the place of the disabled Fortnite-synonymous building mechanic comes one of the most significant additions in the battle royale so far: the Overshield. Allow us to provide a deeper analysis into how Fortnite Overshields work in Season 2. How Does The Overshield Work? How to get them The Overshield grants the player an additional 50% shield and you get it the moment a game starts, creating a scenario where players can have up to 250 combined health and shield as the match progresses. Overshield works just the same as the game’s regular shield in that it takes damage before you lose any of your health bars. The Overshield doesn’t take damage from the storm, though, and you will take damage to your health bar if you manage to get yourself stuck in the purple haze. Can You Refill Your Overshield? As of Fortnite 3 Season 2, you can’t find any items within the game that will replenish your Overshield if you lose a bit of it. Well, there is a particular reason for that. See, your shield naturally “recharges” itself when you’re not engaging in Fortnite warfare for at least 5-10 seconds. So, you can manage to work “avoiding battle” into your game plan for the foreseeable future as there are now perks to hiding in a bush for a breather. What else has changed? Along with the Overshield, Epic has reworked other mechanics to make up for the loss of the player’s ability to build. Players have faster running speeds, higher jumping abilities, and the ability to mantle objects throughout the battlegrounds. When is building coming back to Fortnite? As of right now, we do know that the building mechanic should be back in Fortnite by March 29. But, what we don’t know is if the Overshield will remain in the game once building returns or will Epic Games vault this concept completely. Either way, players may want to begin playing the game with 50% less health the closer we get to the end of March to get used to a game without the potentially short-lived concept.

The Marvel theme has run throughout Season 4, with Earth’s mightiest heroes and a few from planets far away all crash landing onto the island and making it their home, fortifying themselves for what will be an epic showdown with Galactus, who’s on his way and determined to alter the reality of Fortnite forever. With superheroes like Thor, Wolverine, Dr Doom, and many more already making an appearance in the game, this week it’s the turn of Wakanda’s Black Panther, and you’ll need to get up close and personal with the King if you want to complete this Week 6 task. Black Panther has already made an impression in Season 4, with his Panther’s Prowl monument appearing in the south of the island, complete with a giant statue of the creature, and some nice loot to set you on your way to a Victory Royale. With the new challenges dropping on Thursday, October 1, it seems like Black Panther himself will be making an appearance on the map, with players required to use his mythical item to shockwave an enemy, then deal damage to them. Kinetic Shockwave will blast your opponent back, and leave them temporarily stunned, meaning you can quickly switch to another weapon and pick them off, fulfilling the task fairly easily. Unfortunately, Black Panther hasn’t arrived in the game just yet, but he will set foot on the Fortnite island at some point today, so we’ll be sure to update this article with his location so you can head there, take him down, and grab his abilities. As always, you’ll be moving around the island a lot this week if you want to complete the Season 4 Week 6 challenges, with chests needing to be opened at Weeping Woods, enemies eliminated at Misty Meadows, and Foraged Items consumed at Holly Hedges. You’ll also be asked to put your fishing skills to the test by pulling out a Legendary Fish and consuming it, so make sure to grab any rods you see close to the water and give it a go. However, these tracks have now been implemented into the Lobby Music for matches in Fortnite, and we have the rundown of how you can select your favorite Jam Tracks to play while you load in. How to use Festival Jam Tracks as Lobby Music The first thing you will need to do is to go into your Locker in the Fortnite main menu and select the Lobby option. On this screen, you will see three options that you can customize: Banner, Lobby Music, and Loading Screen; you will want to select the Lobby Music option. Here, you will see the various Jam Tracks that you have unlocked available to select. Simply choose which one you want to listen to; you will know that it’s selected by the yellow highlight around it. You can then back out and hear the song playing. You can also click on the three dots of the Lobby Music tile to choose to randomize which song will play when loading up into a Lobby. You can also look below to save your Banner, Lobby Music, and Loading Screen selections as a Preset to load whenever you want to use the combination. How to use a Hand Cannon to easily eliminate a turtling opponent in Fortnite There might be nothing more frustrating in Fortnite Battle Royale than an enemy player who decides to turtle instead of attempting to challenge you in a gunfight. Turtling is when an opponent builds a box, usually just one wall wide with a roof made of one floor piece and a pyramid on top, to stop enemy players from killing them. Any opponent who tries to break in will have to spend time breaking down one of the four wall which can be easily replaced, or through the two pieces on the top which will give the turtler plenty of time to prepare for the attack. Reddit user ‘ImSpeedyGonzalez’ may have a way to quickly take out enemies who use this method, using a Hand Cannon and then either a sub-machine gun or an assault rifle. Simply stand on top of your turtling opponent, and aim your Hand Cannon at the very edge of the structure’s roof. If aimed correctly, the bullet from the Hand Cannon will destroy the floor panel placed underneath the pyramid. All you have to do then is take aim at your opponent and fire, as your bullets will destroy the pyramid piece and leave you free to shoot your opponent. While this strategy would work with the use of other weapons, the Hand Cannon is perfect for this technique as it destroys the roof piece in one shot, and doesn’t have a large cool-down between shots like the bolt-action sniper. Fortnite fans are always trying to find new ways to combat turtlers, including one creative suggestion for a new trap that would allow players to take over enemy builds. Unfortunately, there is no current plan for that trap to be added, but this clever manoeuvre from ImSpeedyGonzalez should help players in the meantime.

How to upgrade weapons in Fortnite Season 6, Chapter 2 Epic GamesUpgrading weapons in Fortnite have once again changed with the launch of the new season, and now players are even more restricted on where they can upgrade their weapons. Here’s where you can find all of the NPC’s who offer upgrades, as of Chapter 2 Season 6. Upgrading weapons in Fortnite has been received generally well by the community. Instead of leaving your chance of getting higher-tier weapons entirely to luck, players can use other items to level-up the rarity in order to help even the playing field. While upgrading your weapons has changed over the past few seasons since its introduction, players will need two things: gold bars and NPCs that offer upgrades. While the former is pretty easy to find, the latter can be a bit more difficult, especially since they’ve changed once again. That being said, it’s still pretty easy to upgrade the weapons once you find the AI, so it shouldn’t be too much of a problem once you find them. Jonesy The First Jonesy The First is the one of the six NPC’s that offer upgrades within Fortnite Season 6. He can be found over in Pleasant Park, near the top of the map, under Stealthy Stronghold but above Boney Burbs. Once you’re in Pleasant Park, you’ll need to go to the north-west part of it. Jonesy The First will be found inside of it. Find an upgradable weapon and interact with him. Bandolette Another NPC that offers upgrades is Bandolette. She can be found over in the unnamed Flush Factory section. For those that don’t remember, this POI was originally a part of the Chapter 1 map and was added back into the game during Chapter 2 Season 5. It can be in the southern part of the map, below Slurpy Swamp. As for Bandolette, she’s generally found close to the ocean, so search for her there once you land at Flush Factory. Dummy While Dummy also offer’s upgrades, he’s not found in the same place that he was during Season 5. While he was originally found north of Pleasant Park and sold The Dub shotgun, he can now be found in the unnamed Compact Car section of the map and no longer sells the weapon. This unnamed POI can be found in between Dirty Docks and Colossal Crops and looks like a small Junkyard with a bunch of scrapped cars. Dummy shouldn’t be too hard to find as it’s such a small section. The Reaper The Reaper, also known by fans as the knock-off John Wick skin that Epic created years ago before they actually collaborated with the film franchise, also offers weapon upgrades on eligible weapons. To find him, all you have to do is go to the Boost Pad section of the map. Also unnamed, this is the Rocket League-themed house overlooking the beach near the west of the side of the map, south of Sweaty Sands. Remedy The health-centered NPC is another carry-over from other map and can now be found in Craggy Cliffs, one of the most northern POI’s on the current map. She can be found in her own medic-centered section, on the east side of the point of interest, so she shouldn’t be too hard to find. Jules The final NPC who offers weapon upgrades in Season 6 is Jules. She can be found in the Camp Cod section of the map, which is, once again, an unnamed located in southern part of the map. As for where she can be found within that location, just go to the east side of it in the big building. Again, it’s worth nothing that for all of these NPCs, you’ll need an eligible weapon to upgrade it. While the game will tell you if a certain one is eligible when you get to the AI, generally speaking most weapons are, unless you’ve already upgraded it. Of course, there’s always a chance that the number of NPCs who offer upgrades will change throughout the season, so check back on this article as we’ll be updating it with new info as time goes on.

How to Upgrade Your Skins In Fortnite Battle Royale Season 4 – Chest, Arms and Head Armor With the new season 4 for Fortnite Battle Royale, Epic Games have added new and exciting challenges including a brand new system to rank up and improve the looks of your skins. As part of the new season, there have of course been a number of new skins added, but developer’s have come up with a new way to keep fans playing throughout the season, even once you have earned (or purchased) the top tiers. In previous seasons, once you had unlocked all the the skins you wanted, that was pretty much it, and there was little more incentive to continue to climb up the ranks. However, Fortnite have came up with a brilliant new way to keep you motived – by allowing you to earn new upgrades to your characters, by increasing your season level. Now, for each new Fortnite skin, you can earn new parts including the pick axe, leg piece, arm piece, head armor and chest plate, all which make your character look even more intimidating. It looks like you will need to have the skin unlocked in order to see a preview of each piece, and it will take you a decent amount of playing to unlock the full set, with some requiring you be season level 80. And by the looks of it, there is no shortcut either, so you cannot just cash out with V-bucks, you will really need to grind out the levels. This video from TmarTn shows you exactly how to rank your skins up and upgrade them, and has some previews for the most epic character – the “Omega” skin. So while in previous seasons the coolest skin could simply be purchased by those willing to spend their hard earned money, the new season 4 system will reward playing and ranking up even more.

Epic GamesFortnite Omni Chips are a new type of collectible in Chapter 3 Season 2, and you’ll need to know all of their locations to unlock upgrades for your Omni Sword pickaxe. Challenge 2 – Visit a giant throne as Doctor Doom Equip the Doctor Doom skin and load into a Fortnite game. – Drop out of the Battle Bus and land at the hill southeast of Retail Row – Climb to the top of the hill. – Go near the giant throne made of rocks and trees and the challenge is completed. – The giant throne is facing north and it’s hard to miss, but since Retail Row is another hotspot for players, it’s advised to loot beforehand if you land too far away from the objective. Challenge 3 – Get a Victory Royale as Doctor Doom to unlock emote Equip the Doctor Doom skin. – Instead of a regular game, jump into Team Rumble mode. – Win a game of Team Rumble. – Make sure to emote at the Victory Royale screen and the awakening challenge is finished. – Any other game mode works, but Team Rumble is much quicker and more comfortable for players to complete this challenge. Fortnite: How to get Supercharged XP & how it works Supercharged XP in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 works like an XP boost, allowing you to earn more XP than usual in-game when completing various actions, such as getting eliminations, looting items or consumables, opening chests, and so on. At the time of writing, players can get Supercharged XP automatically when logging into the game. But there’s a catch. The Supercharged XP in Fortnite isn’t unlimited. Rather, it’s only active when it comes to gaining several levels this season, meaning that once you’ve racked up a few levels, the Supercharged XP boost will end. You can tell the Supercharged XP is active since there’ll be a gold “Supercharged” sign near the XP bar on your screen. Once this turns to purple, you’ll no longer benefit from the effect. How to unlock free Snowy Pickaxe in Fortnite | Winterfest Day 8 Challenge The eighth day of the Winterfest holiday event in Fortnite Battle Royale has arrived, with it a new daily challenge and the Snowy Pickaxe as a free reward to all players. With the holiday season very much in full swing, the Winterfest in-game event has added a Christmas flair to Fortnite while also giving players free cosmetic items on a daily basis. As most Fortnite events usually do, Winterfest features its own set of challenges that players can complete for rewards and the one for Christmas Day gives out a free Snowy Pickaxe. The pickaxe features a broken tree branch as its handle capped off with a head of a snowman. The snowman has a black top hat on and is smoking out of a small wooden pipe. The harvesting tool is classified as a rare item, and its official description reads: “Use your head.” Here is what the Snowy Pickaxe looks in-game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWqVtGVhJY0 How to unlock Fortnite’s Snowy Pickaxe for free In order to get this Snowy Pickaxe for free, all you have to do is complete the challenge for day eight of Winterfest, which requires players to use a Present twice in-game. This means you simply have to find and throw two of them so they can activate. Presents, of course, are Legendary items in Fortnite that, when thrown, produce a box large enough that players can actually enter and take sanctuary in, even set traps. Presents also come with their own loot inside, so players who throw one can enter and take any and all of the items and weapons that it has to offer. This item was first introduced back in Season 7 for 14 Days of Fortnite, the event that celebrated last year’s holiday season. They were vaulted soon thereafter and kept out of the game until the v11.30 update on December 12, when they were returned for Winterfest. Fortnite Winterfest challenges As mentioned above, this is the eight challenge offered in the Winterfest event. How to unlock the free Callsign Hornet Wrap in Fortnite – Air Royale LTM challenges leaked The brand new Callsign Hornet weapon wrap has been released in Fortnite Battle Royale, and players can now unlock it for free by completing challenges in the new Air Royale Limited Time Mode. The v8.40 update, which went live on April 17, introduced a lot of new content in Fortnite, including the Air Royale LTM, a mode based around the X-4 Stormwing planes. Throughout the duration of this LTM, there will be nine total challenges that players will be able to complete within the mode, earning unique weapon wraps along the way. Fortnite Air Royale LTM Challenges The nine Air Royale LTM challenges have been split into three parts, with each portion being made available on different days, starting on April 17. Here are the first three challenges, which are currently available for players to try and complete within the mode: Deal damage to opposing Stormwings with an SMG or Minigun (4,000) – Collect different rarities of Sky Chests as a pilot (5) – Play matches of Air Royale (7) – Although the other six challenges are not available yet in-game, they have all been already leaked by prominent data-miner ‘RiftFNBR.’ Here are the remaining six Air Royale LTM challenges that will presumably be made available in-game over the next few days. Players will receive the Callsign Skull wrap for completing the first three challenges, the Callsign Falcon wrap for completing the next three, and Callsign Wolf wrap for the final three. How to unlock Fortnite’s Singularity Utopia challenge skin Epic GamesSince the reveal of Fortnite’s Singularity skin by data miners, players have been desperate to get their hands on the cosmetic item. Finally, we now know how to unlock it and we’ve got a full guide to help you. Skins and cosmetic items are one of the most popular items in Fortnite, with players spending V-Bucks or grinding challenges to unlock new things to make their characters stand out from the rest. Back in the v9.30 update, Fortnite leakers released a special character skin called Singularity, which was never released in the item shop for purchase. If you’re still desperate to own this skin though, we finally know how you can unlock it and make use of the design. Thankfully, unlocking the Singularity skin won’t be a difficult task, but it certainly will be time consuming, as you’ll need to take part in one of Season 9’s overarching challenges called Fortbytes. Fortbytes were first introduced with the v9.0 update, and tasks players with searching the map for special electronic components which have been scattered across the island. Each Fortbye corresponds to a square on an image found in the game’s menu, with more of the picture revealed every time you find one. Now, we finally know that to unlock the Singularity skin, you will need to have collected 90 Fortbytes throughout the season as part of the game’s Utopia challenges, which will then unlock the character for use in the game. If you haven’t been keeping up with Fortbytes but want to get your hands on the skin, you can use our handy Fortbytes guide, which includes step-by-step instructions for unlocking all of the 90 currently available Fortbytes. Unfortunately, you’ll need to be at least Level 95 in the Season 9 Battle Pass to grab the skin, though, as you need to use the ‘Laid Back Shuffle’ emote to complete the 90th challenge, which only unlicks at Tier 95.

How to unlock Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1 secret Sorana skin set The secret skin for Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 1, called Sorana, is now available in-game, and players can unlock it and the matching back-bling and pickaxe by completing a set of special challenges. Most seasons in Fortnite Battle Royale have featured a secret or mystery outfit skin that players could unlock by completing a series of challenges through the season’s first eight or so weeks. For Season 1 of Chapter 2, that skin is called Sorana and, now that the eighth set of challenges for the season will be going live on November 28, players will finally be able to obtain the cosmetic item. Although the skin was supposed to stay a secret until Week 8, players were able to leak it beforehand because of a glitch in the game that allowed some to access it a week early. Much like the hidden letter objectives, the challenges for these cosmetic items will involve players having to find them in the Chaos Rising Loading Screen while wearing the outfit itself. The Chaos Rising Loading Screen, which has already been released in Fortnite, includes images of both the Party Crashers Pickaxe and Ready Ruck Back Bling along with coordinates for where both items can be found. Coordinates for Party Crashers Pickaxe: G1/G2 – H1/H2 – Coordinates for Ready Ruck Back Bling: G7/G8 – H7/H8 – This puts the pickaxe somewhere in the top right corner of the map, near Steamy Stacks and possibly even in the surrounding water. The back-bling’s coordinates put it in the bottom right corner of the map, in the snow-capped mountain range that lies there. How to unlock Fortnite’s new Heartspan Glider for free Players in Fortnite Battle Royale can now unlock the brand new Heartspan Glider for free, but this promotion is only available until later today. The new Glider features a shiny red heart surrounded by orange trails and flanked on either side by dark teal wings. There are also handles underneath for the character to grab onto that also have orange trails. While the Glider itself is free, players will not be able to unlock it alone as the process requires people to gift it to each other in-game using the gifting system that has just been re-enabled. This is not at all difficult to do, however, as you simply have to visit the Item Shop, click on the Heartspan Glider in the Featured Items section, and then click ‘Buy As a Gift.’ At this point a new screen will pop up asking you to select a single recipient from your list of friends, after which you can write a personalized message and send the glider to them. To get the Slurp Barrel version of the guitar, you will have to get 12,000 Festival Points, 1,000 more than what it takes to unlock it. The gold version of the Slurp Barrel Guitar is unlocked at 16,000 Festival Points, and the final Holographic version is unlocked at 20,000. There are several other rewards that can be unlocked through the new pass featuring Metallica, including all four members as skins, Auras, and more. How to unlock all Fortnite Endgame LTM challenge rewards Epic GamesFortnite Battle Royale players have been celebrating the climax of Marvel’s Avengers story with an all new limited time mode and now all of the challenges for the Fortnite Avengers LTM are live. Epic Games announced that they had partnered up with Marvel for the release of the new movie on April 22 and a brand new LTM has since arrived in the game, bringing a new set of themed challenges for players to complete. Three new challenges have been going live each day since the movie was released and fans have finally been given their first glimpse of the final three, as well as the rewards on offer. There are 12 Fortnite Endgame challenges in total for players to grind their way through, all of which must be completed by playing the Fortnite Avengers LTM. Completing 10 or more of these tasks will allow you to unlock a brand new Quinjet glider, too, which is – of course – inspired by the Avengers’ ship. How to turn on Fortnite’s Performance Mode & increase framerate on PC Epic GamesFortnite’s Performance Mode gives players the ability to increase the framerate on PC in exchange for some lower-quality textures. Heres how you can turn it on for yourself and take advantage of the smoother gameplay. Fortnite’s Performance Mode has been around for a little bit now and it’s been swarming the community. Players who enable it will have their textures turned down to more poor quality ones but they’re are awarded with a much higher framerate, as the game doesn’t have to process any high-quality assets. If you’re new or you’re confused why some videos seem to be running at a better frame-rate, you may be wondering how to turn it on for yourself. Luckily, it’s pretty simple if you know where to look. Fortnite Performance Mode settings The setting itself can be used on both high-end rigs, as well as lower-spec ones but the result is the same across the board. Regardless of which PC you run it on, the result will be a higher framerate. To find the Performance Mode option, you’ll need to search for it a tiny bit but it’s not buried in the settings or anything: Open the Settings menu – On the Video tab, scroll down until you find Rendering Mode in the Advanced Graphics section – Select “Performance Mode (Alpha)” – Apply/save your changes – Restart your game – Enjoy your faster framerate – It’s worth noting that, in this mode, Save the World will be disabled, so if you’re a fan of the mode then that may be another downside for you. Performance Mode on Xbox and PlayStation? Unfortunately, as of the time of this writing, there’s no telling if or when the setting will come to consoles. Given that enabling lower resolution textures isn’t really a feature on console games, it’s safe to assume that it won’t ever come. That being said, the setting on PC is curiously labeled as “Alpha”, meaning the full version has yet to release. Once it does, we could see a similar feature on console but that’s pure speculation. Until then, the setting remains locked to PC.

If you’d like to enable this feature, here’s everything you need to know about how to turn on Proximity Chat in Fortnite. Fortnite: How to turn on Proximity Chat The Proximity Chat feature in Fortnite can be toggled under the Voice section in the Island Settings. This feature isn’t available for all game modes at the time of writing, as players can only use it in UEFN or Creative Maps. By default, it is set to off. So, if you want to use it, you’ll need to follow the steps below: Load up your own island or any other island with this feature enabled. – Go to Island Settings. – Head to the Mode tab. – Select the Voice Chat section. – Set Proximity Chat to On. – Apply changes. – With that set to on, now you can finally talk to and hear other players around you on the island. According to a blog post from Epic, actively speaking players will be shown via a mandatory HUD element. They’ve also clarified that they will moderate voice chat reports violating Community Rules. Is there Proximity Chat in Fortnite’s Battle Royale? Proximity Chat is not in the Battle Royale and can only be used in Creative Maps. However, it’s worth noting that Epic mentioned the feature is currently in Early Access and that the devs are looking into putting “something new and exciting in your hands as soon as the core functionality can be used effectively.” This doesn’t rule out the possibility it may be implemented in the Battle Royale. Either way, if you plan to use this feature, just make sure not to break the game’s rules, especially if you don’t want to get social banned for a long time.

How to turn off pre-edits in Fortnite after 15.20 update Epic GamesWhile Fortnite update v15.20 added a bunch of new features to the game, including two new weapons and more, one of the smaller but more significant changes came in the form of a “disable pre-edits” option, which has been a highly sought-after feature in the community for a while. While most Fortnite players are talking about the two new weapons added in the v15.20 patch, another major subject is that of the new option to disable pre-edits, which has been heavily requested by players for several years now. But how does the new option actually function and how can you turn it off? Here’s everything you need to know about the small but important feature. What is a pre-edit in Fortnite and what does disabling it change? Pre-editing a structure basically means you have the ability to edit the shape/design of the structure before you actually place it and start building. While this might seem good on paper, it can lead to many unfortunate mishaps while building at a quick rate, like unintended builds, which could be the difference between surviving or falling during a gunfight. For years, many fans and top streamers, like SypherPK, have been calling for the feature to be removed, which would basically eliminate the option for mistakes when building, forcing players to put down a specific panel before they can edit it. Now, Epic Games have finally made the request a reality. How it works is simple: if you have “disable pre-edits” on, you simply won’t see the edit button show up when you’re on your build screen. Once you place an object, then the option to edit will become available. How to disable pre-edits in Fortnite Finding the option is very simple, however, considering Fortnite’s settings can be an intimidating, jumbled mess at times, it may be a bit confusing if you don’t know where to look: Open the Fortnite menu – Select the “Settings” option – Tab over to the “Game” section – Scroll down to the “Building section – Find the “Disable Pre-Edit Option” (it should be the second option) and turn it on – Apply your changes – The changes should take effect the next time you exit the menu – The best part is that, if you’re not sure whether or not you want the option to be disabled, you can turn it on or off mid-match without a problem. All in all, it’s a pretty nice feature, and it’s recommended that you try it out a couple of times and see if it improves your game at all, especially if you’re someone who has difficulty building with pre-edits enabled.

How to travel faster in Fortnite using the new Chiller trap The latest update to Fortnite Battle Royale introduced an all-new freeze trap item called the ‘Chiller’ and players are already discovering innovative ways of using it their advantage. The Chiller trap, which can be placed on any floor, wall or ceiling, turns the feet of players into cubes of ice, reducing friction significantly and making them slide around quickly. This can work well to force opponents to lose their footing and fall off of structures, but is arguably more useful in terms of making a fast getaway – particularly when you’re near corrupted areas of the map. When you’re near those corrupted areas of the map, using a Chiller along with one of the runes on the ground makes it possible to travel a long distance in a matter of seconds, as VeSportsHades on Reddit discovered: After the floating island has traveled over one of the runes it creates a number of craters that throw players into the air, and sliding over one with ‘Chiller feet’ gives players an incredible movement boost. We’re not entirely sure whether this was an intended trait when Epic Games developed the new item, but we’re hoping that it will stay in the game! Now, in Chapter 2 Season 6, players are able to turn into a prop whenever they want to, but only if they have the resources to do it (it costs 75 gold) and if they can find an NPC that sells the prop ability. Where to get a prop disguise in Fortnite Just like upgrading your weapons, only specific NPCs offer the ability to disguise yourself as a prop within Season 6. To find him, all you need to do is go to Steamy Stacks and find the room with the purple pool near the west-side of the POI. He should be located in there. It is worth noting that Fortnite players may want to avoid this one as it seems to be a toss-up whether or not he’ll spawn in as his aggressive self or his calm self. Still, he does sell it. Crustina The disturbing Fortnite tomato NPC known as Crustina is another character that offers the prop disguise ability. To find her, head over to the Pizza Pit restaurant just north of Colossal Crops. She shouldn’t be too hard to find, as she appears behind the counter right through the main door. Raz While Raz does sell the prop disguise ability as well, he can be a bit more difficult to find compared to the others. Players will have to go to Colassal Crops and then find the biggest structure and go to the second floor. He should be found there. While that’s not too difficult, the fact that it’s a new area in Fortnite and tons of players will be dropping there means that it’s pretty easy to run into others, so it may be worth grabbing a weapon before you head into there. Snow Sniper The final NPC who sells the prop ability is Snow Sniper. She’s located the furthest away from the others, at Retail Row, down in the bottom right-hand corner of the map. That being said, like Bushranger, she’s not found exactly in the center of the area. Instead, you’ll have to go to the east of the POI, on top of the mountain ridge in order to find her. On arrival, you’ll notice that some of the Coral Buddies are sitting around a pile of sandstone bricks, which they appear to be trying to use to build something. Grab your pickaxe and start breaking the rocks scattered around the location, and make sure you have 300 stone in your materials. Once you’ve gathered the goods, walk up to the under-construction site, and interact with it. Once you’ve interacted with it, you should receive a notification on the left-hand side of your screen letting you know that the building lesson is complete, and the Coral Buddies should get to work on their latest construction project. Once finished, you’ll see the the little creatures have actually built a pyramid, letting you know that the challenge is completely done, and you can venture off to find enemy players, and maybe even a win. It’s definitely worth completing this challenge, as you’ll receieve 25,000 XP towards your Fortnite Battle Pass, which could unlock you some new cosmetics, and give you a nice boost as you try to reach Tier 100. Here’s a safer alternative method to tame a Boar in Fortnite: Pick up fruit or vegetables from a farm. – Find a Boar in the wild areas of The Island. – Throw the fruit or vegetables down near the Boar, but don’t let it see you. – While the Boar is distracted, sneak up on it. – Press and hold the command button to ‘tame’ the Boar. – Boars aren’t as fast and won’t do as much damage as Wolves, but you still need to keep your guard up as they can slowly whittle down your health if you’re not careful. Added on January 22 as part of the v7.20 Content Update, the Sneaky Snowman is a decoy item that can either be manually placed somewhere on the map or worn as a disguise. The Common rarity item has 100 health and can act as a shield to those who choose to wear it, but players cannot build or use other items until the Snowman gets destroyed or they switch to a different item or building mode. However, some of the more keen minds have quickly realized that there is a way to use the Sneaky Snowman to avoid taking fall damage when falling from virtually any height. As demonstrated by Reddit user ‘Junkertown,’ the secret here is to build a floor structure, manually place the Snowman on it, jump and stand on its head, then edit out the floor structure to cause the Snowman to fall down. The ending result of this method sees the Snowman and the player standing on its head to safely land on the ground below without either taking a lick of fall damage. The effectiveness of this trick is very situational as it provides a very easy way to get down from great heights without having to burn through resources or valuable mobility items. While using Glider Redeploy or Balloons also makes sense in these situations, their drop rates have been considerably lowered, which means players might want to save them for emergency fall damage prevention or directional aerial travel, since Snowmen can’t be used in either scenario anyway. Until then, if you find yourself carrying some in your inventory, better put them to good use!
