  • Here’s what Fortnite’s Season 8 trailer could look like – Dexerto

Here’s what Fortnite’s Season 8 trailer could look like Epic GamesSeason 8 of Fortnite is just around the corner and while a whole host of new content is pretty much guaranteed with Epic Games after the earthquake, some fans are expecting big things from the trailer. Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode was released in September 2017 and has since become one of the most popular games on the market, potentially because it’s free-to-play across all platforms. However, a huge part of its success also comes down to the constant updates Epic has lined up to keep the game fresh with each and every patch – making it very unpredictable at times. A post to the Fortnite BR subreddit, though, reveals a potential route that the developer could explore in the next chapter of the game. The fan-made trailer below, which creator SardarConcepts says it took a month to put together, gives us an idea of what fans could expect to see in the upcoming season. This concept would bring together the earthquake event that has already started in Fortnite and merge it with an upcoming volcano eruption to melt the ice on the map. This could be a direction that Epic has considered as more and more cracks start to appear across the Battle Royale map, but whether or not the idea will come to fruition remains to be seen. Fans will have to wait for the official Season 8 trailer to land for concrete answers.

  • Here’s What Thanos Can Do in Fortnite’s Infinity Gauntlet LTM – Dexerto

Here’s What Thanos Can Do in Fortnite’s Infinity Gauntlet LTM Epic GamesThe crossover between Epic’s Fortnite game and Marvel’s Infinity War movie is being dubbed as one of the most exciting collaborations in entertainment history. Fortnite’s popularity appears to show no bounds with the free-to-play title becoming one of the most played and watched games across the world. When you combine it with one of the biggest cinematic releases in history, Marvel’s Infinity War, you reach a new level. It was announced on May 7th that Fortnite would be releasing a limited time gamemode in update V.4.1, with one special player being able to play as one of the Infinity War characters. The initial details were rather vague but we were told that the event would involve the film’s main villain, Thanos, and his “Infinity Gauntlet” – basically a big glove designed for holding the “Infinity Gems” which makes the wearer almost invincible. The patch notes for update V.4.1 were released on May 8th and alongside the usual bug fixes and all that boring stuff, we found out the abilities of a player using Thanos. Early in the match, a meteor will land in the storm safe zone, delivering the Infinity Gauntlet. Any player who uses the Infinity Gauntlet will transform into Thanos. If Thanos is eliminated, the Gauntlet will fall to the ground, free for the taking. If it sits unused for too long, it will disappear until another meteor appears. As per usual, the last man standing is the victor! Thanos Details – A mighty punch that knocks enemies back and destroys structures. – – Thanos flies towards the ground, hitting an area for knockback and damage. – – Harness the energy of the Power stone to fire a blast that deals damage over time. – – A super-jump that can vault Thanos over all but the largest obstructions. – Thanos has both shields and health. When he eliminates another player, his shields regenerate. His health never regenerates. – Thanos doesn’t take fall damage. – Thanos does not build, use weapons or things like launch pads. He has no need for such petty human devices. – Storm and Map Maximum match length is roughly 15 minutes. – The match will start with the storm circle already closing in over the island. – The storm does more damage than normal, ticking for 5% health during the first circle and 10% for the rest of the game. – Loot Only Rare, Epic & Legendary weapons will be spawned. – Increased chances of treasure chests spawning from 50-70% to 80-90%. – Increased chances of ammo boxes spawning from 65-80% to 85-95%. – Floor Loot spawns nearly 100% of the time. – Launchpad spawn likelihood greatly increased. – Harvesting resources doubled. – Resources found in loot increased from 30 to 60. – Chug Jug, Port-A-Fort, Boogie Bomb, Slurp Juice, Bush, and Remote Explosives drop rate increased. – Regular Grenade, Shield & Bandage drop rate lowered. –

  • Here’s What Epic Games Has Planned for Competitive Fortnite in the Coming Months – Dexerto

Here’s What Epic Games Has Planned for Competitive Fortnite in the Coming Months Epic Games have outlined their plans for competitive Fortnite Battle Royale ahead of 2019’s “official Fortnite World Cup”. As part of their August 2018 “State of Development” post, the developers said that the Fortnite Summer Skirmish events have been “proven invaluable as a testing ground” for competitive play in a high-stakes environment. They went on to say that they have been “attempting to find the best balance between simplicity, entertainment, server performance and competitive integrity” before promising that more competitions are on the horizon: “Expect for us to continue operating and supporting competitive events after the conclusion of Summer Skirmish as we lead into next year’s official Fortnite World Cup.” The post also discusses the ongoing development of a live spectating feature with “functionality similar to what was featured in the E3 Pro-Am” for live gameplay servers. The improvements will apparently “provide more high-quality coverage of the action along with map overheads, scoreboards, and drone cameras” and continue to be developed in the coming weeks and months. Finally, the developers say that they are “aware of a strong desire from competitive players for more opportunities to compete against one another within the same match” and that development to provide these opportunities is currently underway: “Development recently began for a robust competition system which will allow for all players to compete with one another and be recognized for their accomplishments. The first version of this feature is expected later this Fall.”

  • Here’s the perfect way to cure Fortnite’s Rocket Launcher problem – Dexerto

Here’s the perfect way to cure Fortnite’s Rocket Launcher problem Epic GamesThe Fortnite v7.20 Content Update on January 25 featured a big change for the game’s Rocket Launchers, making them a pain to the community ever since. But one change could return the weapon to its former glory. The Rocket Launcher has been in Fortnite since the beginning but a recent update brought a slew of problems with the RPG weapon which has made some fans feel it’s time to vault the item. In a post, Reddit user ‘VenomViper300’ created a chart that explains a simple change to how the RPG’s blast inflicts damage which would make the weapon significantly better to play against. The change would implement a blast radius that would reduce the damage taken depending how far you are from the rocket’s epicenter. VenonViper thinks that the RPGs simply do too much damage with the minimal amount of aim required to get a good shot off. Their change would see the Rocket Launcher deal its base damage of 121 at the point of explosion, but have a rapidly decreasing damage value the further from the center the target is located. Such a change would force the wielder to line up the best shot, instead of aiming in the general direction of the target knowing they will inflict the full force of the blast. The change would also remedy early game woes the weapon brings. The change would make it so players unfortunate enough to go against a Rocket Launcher at the start of the game wouldn’t be instantly sentenced to death, when shields and heals haven’t generally been picked up yet. The idea is simple, but could go a long way to mitigating the damage the recent update to the weapon brought onto Fortnite.

  • Here’s the Full Cheat Sheet Map With Locations for the Week 9, Season 5 Fortnite Challenges – Dexerto

Here’s the Full Cheat Sheet Map With Locations for the Week 9, Season 5 Fortnite Challenges Fortnite’s Week 9, Season 5 challenges have only been live for a matter of hours but one player has already released a Cheat Sheet to help you complete them all! The Week 9 challenges were released on Friday, September 7, 24 hours later than originally planned due to a delay in the V5.40 patch that meant the update wasn’t released until Thursday. As always, the challenges range in difficulty but should be possible for players of all abilities to complete given the right amount of time. If you’re struggling with any, or all, of them, ItsEnergie has released another one of his incredibly useful cheat sheets: https://twitter.com/ItsEnergie/status/1038049658273185792 The map includes everything from the locations of the Stone Heads to the various stages of the “search a chest” challenge and the location of the Battle Star for the treasure map. • Here’s how to stop bouncing on top of Loot Lake – Dexerto

Here’s how to stop bouncing on top of Loot Lake Fortnite streamer and Reddit user ‘ImSpeedyGonzales’ uploaded a video to the platform that revealed a simple yet effective strategy for players looking to control their movement on top of Fortnite’s Loot Lake. Since the game’s mysterious, purple cube dissolved into the lake on September 19, the water has taken on a curious, elastic property, allowing players to bounce across its surface. Gonzales provided a remedy to this phenomenon, which might be simpler than it seems. He stated that players should turbo-build a wall, immediately placing a floor on the structure just afterwards. This will allow players to stand on top of their build and remain steady atop the Lake’s flubber-like surface. Read More: NerdOut $10,000 Sunday Sabotage Fortnite tournament ft. Tfue, NickEh30, CouRage and more – Stream, Bracket and Rules – While it doesn’t allow players to walk across the Lake without vaulting into the sky, it does provide a means for them to build on top of it, with a bit more control over their own mobility. One commenter suggested that players could build a pyramid directly beneath them, but Gonzales admitted that the technique could be a bit risky. “I tried pyramids (not pre edited),” he wrote, “and you can only land on the tip of the pyramid, so it’s not very viable.” Other players revealed their own strategies for the Lake, some stating that they built stairs on the jello-like surface, while others built ramps and a floor. While the strategy might seem obvious, it’s the little things that count in taking a game – and this strategy could be one of them.

  • Here’s how to easily prevent Fortnite traps from activating – Dexerto

Here’s how to easily prevent Fortnite traps from activating Muselk / YouTubeFortnite eliminations are not always easy to take, but trap deaths can look quite embarrassing. However, with this simple trick, you can completely block them from triggering. Epic Games has been looking into a number of weapon and item issues since Season 7 first launched on December 6 of last year, with some newer features like the Infinity Blade, Grappler and others being sent to the vault. Now, though, it seems that there’s a bug with one of the game’s long-standing items – traps. In a post to the Fortnite BR subreddit, user angelotadeucci shows how you can bypass a trap totally unscathed. All it takes is a quick build and it won’t move an inch, even if you’re standing right next to it. As shown in the clip below, ‘in the know’ players will be able to disable traps that other people have set by placing either a ramp in front of it or an edited roof. Once placed, you can destroy the object you’ve created and the trap will not activate. This will, clearly, put some players at a disadvantage if they’re using traps to protect themselves. The creator of the video does explain, however, that this has to be done correctly in order to work properly. For example, by falling onto a floor trap right after destroying your build, the trap will still activate. Whether or not Epic is aware of this issue is unclear, but – presumably – traps should not be locking up completely because of a simple build. At the time of writing, this strategy can still be used in the game to disable them.

  • Here’s how Fortnite could close the gap between console and PC players – Dexerto

Here’s how Fortnite could close the gap between console and PC players Epic Games could make cross-play in Fortnite a whole lot fairer with one simple change to the game’s control settings. The developer’s decision to make Fortnite a cross-platform and free-to-play game are two of the biggest contributors to its success, lifting the restrictions other titles have for those who want to play it. However, with those benefits comes the great challenge of making it a level playing field between those using a controller and others using a mouse and keyboard. One simple change could achieve just that. In a post to the Fortnite BR subreddit, DeadCell_XIII suggested that Epic introduce a system which allows console players to sync up buttons with different parts of the inventory, meaning players don’t have to stand still while scrolling through their loadout in-game. “This system binds each inventory slot to a specific button press of the should buttons” the Reddit user explained. Check out a more detailed plan of the ‘Quick-Switch’ inventory controls below. “This allows you to know exactly what you have to press to get to a specific weapon type, without taking your thumbs off the sticks. You can change which buttons access which gun type simply be re-arranging your inventory.” The user suggested that this could be added as an option, rather than default, allowing console players the choice between sticking with what they have already, or enabling this in the menus. A controller doesn’t have as many buttons as a PC player’s keyboard does, however, that can be worked around by including double tapping options – DeadCell says. The most recent change to controls made by Epic Games was the Builder Pro preset, which made it a lot easier for those on console to build at high speeds. Whether or not the developer will go a step further and add a ‘Quick-Switch’ feature in the future remains to be seen.

  • Here’s every Fortnite skin released during the Season 6 Battle Pass – Dexerto

Here’s every Fortnite skin released during the Season 6 Battle Pass One of the many reasons that Fortnite has become a pop culture juggernaut is player’s ability to customize how their character looks in-game. While players start the game with a set of basic skins, new characters and items can be unlocked by completing in-game challenges through either the paid or free versions of the Battle Pass, or can be purchased from Fortnite’s built-in store. Epic Games updates the store daily, meaning that new and exciting items are always there for players who like to change their appearance regularly, while also bringing back fan favorites to give everyone an opportunity to grab them. With Season 6 drawing to a close, Reddit user HazzaSquad has put together an amazing graphic which shows all 62 skins added to the game during the season, splitting them into categories based on the rarity. Included in the list are is the Legendary rarity Calamity skin, which was the first unlockable skin in the paid version of Season 6’s Battle Pass, alongside the A.I.M. robot character, which players earned by completing seven weeks worth of Hunting Party challenges. The special edition NFL skins, which allowed players to choose which team’s uniform they wanted to wear in-game, also make an appearance. Four skins that were leaked from Fortnite update files but never released are also there, including the Onesie skin that was spotted in the Week 10 Hunting Party loading screen. Even though Epic Games added 62 new skins to the game since Season 6 began on September 27th, Fortnite fans have still been using their creativity to design new characters they would like to see. One budding Fortnite player designed a skin called the Tender Defender, which Epic Games then added to the popular battle royale title much to the delight of the young creator. With Season 7 just around the corner, who knows what crazy and awesome skins we might see from Epic Games over the coming weeks.

  • Have Epic Games secretly added skill-based matchmaking in Fortnite? – Dexerto

Have Epic Games secretly added skill-based matchmaking in Fortnite? Skill-based matchmaking is something that technically does not exist in Fortnite Battle Royale, but some are thinking that developers Epic Games have secretly added it via the latest update. CounterLogic Gaming pro Fortnite player ‘Wish’ tweeted out his suspicions that the latest patch has added a hidden matchmaking system that matches players based on their skill level. “There’s been a hidden matchmaking update in the latest patch,” he tweeted. “Every solo I play today has been a scrim lobby.” Of course, there was no mention of anything related to matchmaking in the latest update, which was the third v7.10 update that went live on January 8. In fact, there has never been a mention of SBMM in virtually any of the updates in Fortnite ever, mainly because Epic Games have shied away from adding such a system in their core default modes. There’s been a hidden matchmaking update in the latest patch. Every solo i play today has been a scrim lobby. I remember one company that did this with their game and killed it. You guys ready for the same? @FortniteGame  — CLG Wish (@WishYaLuckk) January 9, 2019 Looking at Wish’s tweet above, he makes a statement about another company adding hidden SBMM in their game and “killing it,” and he is clearly referring to Bungie doing so with Destiny. At the time, players were rampantly speculating that Bungie had added such a system without letting the public know, citing how the PvP matches had become a lot more competitive and laggy after a certain update. This eventually led to a massive downfall in the popularity of Destiny, especially after Bungie came out and publicly admitted to “stealth implementing” skill-based matchmaking. C

Popular YouTubers ‘Typical Gamer’ and ‘SoaR Thief’ Have Won the KEEMSTAR ‘Friday Fortnite’ $10,000 Tournament – Recap and Final Placements YouTuber ‘Typical Gamer’ and SoaR Gaming Twitch streamer and YouTuber ‘Thief’ have won the second running of the KEEMSTAR ‘Friday Fortnite’ celebrity tournament. They beat the Team SoloMid professional Fortnite player duo of ‘Daequan’ and ‘Hamlinz’ in an epic, two-game Grand Final, securing the entirety of the $10,000 prize. Since Typical Gamer and SoaR Thief had made it to the Grand Final having won the Winners Bracket, they only needed to win one match to become champions. However, Daequan and Hamlinz won the first match handedly, resetting the bracket for a second match. The winner-take-all match was a slow but very tight affair, as both teams kept getting clutch kills and keeping the pressure on each other. Thief and Daequan got eliminated at the same time, putting Hamlinz and Typical Gamer in a head-to-head for the final few kills. However, the early lead in kills that Typical Gamer and Thief had gotten was just enough to push them over the top and give them the ‘Friday Fortnite’ championship. • Has Tfue quit Fortnite? – Dexerto

Has Tfue quit Fortnite? Epic GamesTwitch star Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney has taken a break from Fortnite, leaving some fans to ask if he’s actually done with the battle royale for good. That, however, might not be the case. As Fortnite has risen in popularity since being released back in 2017, a huge number of content creators have skyrocketed in popularity. Tfue has balanced his streaming success with competing as a professional – winning a handful of early tournaments and qualifying for the Fortnite World Cup. Though, in recent weeks and months, the Floridian has become disenfranchised with Epic Games’ popular title, taking numerous shots at the battle royale. In more recent days, the game hasn’t been seen on his Twitch channel or YouTube as he takes a step into Call of Duty: Warzone. Has Tfue retired from Fortnite? That has led to some questions as to whether or not he is completely done with Fortnite. However, despite his extended absence from Fortnite games, Tfue says he isn’t totally done with the battle royale just yet. “No I didn’t quit Fortnite I just think the game is super unfair atm (at the minute) and wanted to take a break,” he tweeted back on May 20, before taking shots at the v12.60 update that was supposedly addressing aim assist a few hours later. No I didn’t quit Fortnite I just think the game is super unfair atm and wanted to take a break — Tfue (@Tfue) May 20, 2020 However, despite those tweets, he fueled the speculation with another post only a few days later. “Fortnite is a game made for little kids who play on controller,” Tfue added. People actually thought aim assist was gonna get nerfed 🤣🤣😂😂😂 Fortnite is a game made for little kids who play on controller — Tfue (@Tfue) May 26, 2020 Aside from that trio of tweets, fans have also noted that Tfue, outside of some just chatting broadcasts, has only played Call of Duty: Warzone on Twitch since stepping away from Fortnite. Though, he did conduct a watch party for the Fortnite Championship Series Invitational grand finals on May 24 as he wasn’t taking part. He also wasn’t a part of the recent Ninja Battles event either – though this may have more to do with his rivalry with Ninja himself. Tfue also hasn’t posted to his YouTube channel in over a week at the time of writing, with the last video titled simply “Fortnite is a**.” Despite his break entering its second week, as of writing, it still very much remains to be seen if Tfue will return to Fortnite in the near future. Epic Games recently confirmed that the launch of Chapter 2, Season 3 had been delayed until June 11, so we might see Tfue dive back in when there are new features in-game for him to experiment with.

  • Has Fortnite peaked on Twitch? Viewership numbers begin to decline – Dexerto

Has Fortnite peaked on Twitch? Viewership numbers begin to decline Fortnite, undoubtedly the most popular game in the world for the better part of the past 12 months, seems to be in somewhat of a decline in terms of Twitch viewership, as we head into the fall season of new game releases. After releasing the battle royale mode in late September 2017, Fortnite’s popularity grew not only in players but also spectators, as millions tuned in to watch the game played by streamers and YouTubers. The two biggest peaks in independent Twitch stream history (Ninja playing with Drake, and Ninja’s Las Vegas Fortnite tournament), were both Fortnite gameplay oriented, but its momentum may be losing steam. Even after Ninja’s record breaking streams, Fortnite continued to dominate Twitch, with more streamers and the start of the competitive season with community events like Friday Fortnite and the developer run Summer and Fall Skirmishes. But, the peak average daily concurrent viewer count in July of 305K, has dropped to only 182K in October, with numbers dipping as low as to go below the 90K mark in late September, according to data from Thinknum. This coincides with the Fall game period, which begins in mid-September as lots of new games are released in the build up to the holiday season. Rather, Twitch viewership has been on a steady increase overall, which Thinknum says is a “sign for concern” for Fortnite, as it appears to be moving in the opposite direction. Source: Thinknum

  • Has LazarBeam quit Fortnite? – Dexerto

Has LazarBeam quit Fortnite? YouTube: LazarBeam/Epic GamesFans of YouTube star Lannan ‘LazarBeam’ Eacott have been questioning whether or not he’s quit playing Fortnite after not uploading a gameplay video in a good while. The original rise of Fortnite saw creators from across the globe explode in popularity regardless of whether they were focused on livestreaming on Twitch or making videos for YouTube. However, some of the original big names like Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins, Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney, and Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff, among others, have turned away from Fortnite and decided to play games like Valorant and Warzone. Plenty of creators still remain, though, they have issues with a lack of updates, and how the competitive scene is being run, to name just a few problems. Now, fans of LazarBeam have been asking if he is following the likes of Ninja and Tfue, and walking away from Fortnite. Did LazarBeam quit Fortnite? Even though his fellow Aussies like Fresh, Lachlan, and LoserFruit have carried on playing Fortnite, LazarBeam hasn’t uploaded a YouTube video about it since mid-December. Though, he has tweeted about it and played the battle royale since. Read More: How to unlock Terminator skins in Fortnite – In that time of not uploading a Fortnite video, he’s made videos on Among Us and Spellbreak, while also uploading his usual meme reactions from TikTok, as well as a more personal video reflecting on how 2020 went for him. In a recent stream though, he did say he was quitting the game after uninstalling. “I’ve decided to uninstall Fortnite. I’ve quit the game. I’m quitting it right now,” LazarBeam said. “I’m done forever.” Though, it’s hard to say if he’s being totally serious, given that he is one of YouTube’s funniest creators. Will LazarBeam return to Fortnite? It could be the case that he returns to Epic Games’ battle royale soon, perhaps once a new update is released. Read More: Best Fortnite skins ever released – Other content creators have done similar, taking breaks because the devs aren’t rolling out as many regular updates as they used to, and the game feels a bit stale. • Harmonix reveals end of Rock Band 4 DLC as Fortnite Festival gains popularity – Dexerto

Harmonix reveals end of Rock Band 4 DLC as Fortnite Festival gains popularity HarmonixRock Band 4 devs Harmonix have revealed the game is getting one final DLC after 8 years of consistent releases to focus on Fortnite Festival. It has been nearly a decade since Rock Band 4 came out in October 2015, with the devs consistently releasing new DLC weekly for the game. And even before Rock Band 4, Harmonix had always maintained consistency with its post-launch tracks since Rock Band 1. However, the long streak of DLCs is coming to an end, as the devs announced on January 25 the next DLC for Rock Band 4 will be its last. “After over eight years of weekly Rock Band 4 DLC releases, we’re here to let you know that January 25 will be the last DLC of the RB4 era,” they confirmed in a blog update on the game. Devs assured however that all other live services will continue as normal, such as online play and Rivals seasons. “Taking a look back, I see the Rock Band DLC catalog as a huge achievement in persistence and commitment,” wrote Daniel Sussman, product manager for Harmonix. “Over the years, we’ve cleared, authored, and released nearly 3,000 songs as DLC and well over 3,000 if you include all the game soundtracks. That’s wild.” He further assured players that all the DLC content they purchased in Rock Band 4 will be playable for as long as they would like. As for what is next for Harmonix, they announced they will be pivoting focus towards Fortnite Festival. “Looking ahead, the Harmonix team has been hard at work over the last two years to develop Fortnite Festival, which brings rhythm action gaming (and more) to the Fortnite ecosystem.” They also revealed that Fortnite Festival will also bring support for RB4 instruments, so Rock Band players who’d like to check it out can easily do so. Harmonix ended the blog, writing, “We deliberated long and hard about how to frame the last blast of RB DLC of this era. The last two weeks will feature some tear-jerkers that sum up our feelings about this moment. We thank you for your commitment to and passion for this wonderful game.”

  • How virtual TikTok star Guggimon became the latest Fortnite crossover – Dexerto

How virtual TikTok star Guggimon became the latest Fortnite crossover Epic GamesVirtual celebrity Guggimon has slowly been implanting himself in the internet’s collective mind, pulling off collaborations with the likes of Gucci and Rico Nasty – and now, he’s even worked his way into Fortnite. With previous crossovers ranging from Star Wars to Marvel and even The Walking Dead, Epic Games’ hit battle royale Fortnite is no stranger to high-profile collaborations. But the latest season treads new ground with the inclusion of ‘virtual celebrities’. Appearing in the Battle Pass alongside pop culture icons Superman and Rick Sanchez is Guggimon, an animated influencer who’s racked up over 2 million followers on TikTok and given his likeness to limited-edition toys that sell out in minutes. He’s the first virtual influencer to appear in Fortnite, which is a huge deal for Superplastic, the company that created Guggimon. But how did the character end up in this season’s lineup? Epic Games are “massive fans” of Guggimon According to Superplastic CEO and Founder Paul Budnitz, Epic Games reached out to ask about a collaboration with the brand after noticing Guggimon’s animated antics on social media – which often go viral. “It turns out the Epic team are massive fans of Guggimon, and we are addicted to the game,” Paul told Dexerto. “Guggimon and Janky have spent hundreds of hours getting wired on Red Bull and playing Fortnite till 4AM, so when they called it was a total no-brainer.” When it came to the creative process, Paul had nothing but praise for Epic Games, who happily took their suggestions on board for the skin design and cosmetics of the horror-obsessed Guggimon. “We were super excited about merging our worlds, and they’re amazing creative people,” he said. “When we wanted Guggimon to drop into the game on a pink skull balloon they said, ‘hell yes’. That’s when we knew it was going to be great.” Are virtual celebrities like Guggimon the future? Virtual influencers are becoming more popular on social media, and League of Legends even launched their own digital girl group called K/DA. The internet is (mostly) welcoming animated celebrities with open arms. Paul thinks this is because characters like Guggimon can do things real influencers can’t, while still keeping a sense of familiarity by interacting with real people through social media. “Guggimon can smoke a cigar in Times Square while standing on top of a dead whale – which actually happened – and Janky has been blown up, buried in razor blades, or dropped in a Supreme wood chipper hundreds of times,” he explained. “But at the same time, they influence the real world. They’ve worked as Gucci models along with Dayzee, and at least 50 people have Guggimon tattoos. Fans collect NFTs and limited edition art toys Guggimon designs and that Superplastic produces and sells.” More Superplastic characters could appear in Fortnite Of course, we had to ask Paul whether any more of the Superplastic lineup like Janky, Dayzee, or Staxx will join Guggimon in Fortnite. Given Epic’s penchant for mass crossovers, it’s certainly not out of the realm of possibility. “Knowing Janky, he’d probably agree to do it for a case of Mountain Dew, some chicken nuggets, and $50 in cash,” Paul joked. “Anyway, if something like that were planned I couldn’t tell you, but we are excited about seeing where the relationship goes.” Fans will have to wait and see if Janky and the rest of Superplastic’s virtual celebrities get a chance to bundle into the Battle Bus, but until then, they’ll no doubt enjoy wreaking havoc as Guggimon across the Fortnite Island. Beyond that? Guggimon will be collaborating with “top street artists” and starring alongside Janky and Dayzee in an “animated hip hop horror movie” that’s currently slated for release in 2022, showing that this virtual influencer’s global takeover is only just beginning.

  • H3CZ explains why Epic shouldn’t give FaZe Jarvis lifetime Fortnite ban – Dexerto

H3CZ explains why Epic shouldn’t give FaZe Jarvis lifetime Fortnite ban NRG co-CEO Hector ‘H3CZ‘ Rodriguez has shared his thoughts on the recent controversy surrounding the ban that FaZe Clan‘s Jarvis Kaye received on Fortnite Battle Royale, and the former OpTic Gaming boss believes the suspension shouldn’t be permanent. It’s been over a week now since Epic Games stunned the Fortnite community by handing a lifetime ban to Jarvis, one of the game’s biggest and well-known content creators. And yet, the topic continues to be tossed around and discussed by many in the world of online gaming, with the biggest focus being on whether or not the punishment was fair. Read More: Players petition Epic to return patch notes – The latest to break down this issue were NRG’s H3CZ and Mason ‘Symfuhny’ Lanier, one of the more prominent pro Fortnite players in the world, as the two org-mates sat down on the November 13 episode of the Eavesdrop Podcast. H3CZ, of course, hasn’t really been involved with Fortnite much, except for the time when he briefly signed OpTic’s first and only pro roster back in 2018. But having been around esports for as long as he has, he was bound to have a well-educated opinion on the matter. During the conversation, the former OpTic CEO really expressed being on the fence when it came to the harshness of the punishment, especially since Jarvis was clearly only cheating for content creation purposes rather than to get a competitive advantage. “I can argue both sides of this,” he said. “I don’t know how I feel about it. I keep hearing people say ‘cheating is wrong, and if you’re cheating in a competitive setting, you should be banned forever.’ I’m with that 100%. But if you’re doing that in a content creation setting and not for money… I don’t know.” They then compared Jarvis’ situation to the controversy surrounding pro players XXiF and Ronaldo, who were suspended during the World Cup qualifiers for teaming but ended up qualifying after their ban ended. “One’s for money and the other one’s for pubs and also for money because you’re making money from the content,” H3CZ explained. “That one video that he made that went viral can, in the end, put him in a position to really make millions.” In the end, however, the Rodriguez found himself in the position of not wanting Jarvis’ ban to be lifetime, and believing that the young content star should be given another chance down the road. “I feel bad though, because he’s super young, and who hasn’t done a lot of stupid sh*t? […] You get caught cheating when you’re playing for money and other people are giving their f**king best, then f**k you! But it’s a pub, and you’re young. Lifetime ban? I say no. Bring that sh*t back and give him a two year ban, if anything. […] I hope young Jarvis gets a little bit of justice, because lifetime ban? Get the f**k out of here!” You can watch the full episode #47 of the Eavesdrop Podcast below, with the section on Jarvis beginning at the 38:00 mark for mobile users. As of now, given Epic’s official statement and response to the situation, there’s no indication that Jarvis’ Fortnite ban will be rescinded or reduced anytime soon. The young FaZe star recently released a video discussing his plans for the future and, as things stand, the popular battle royale game doesn’t look to play a part in that. However, nothing is set in stone when it comes to this unpredictable company, and considering the massive community outcry for them to lessen the punishment, we could see Jarvis back in the fold at some point down the road.

It’s called the Grappler Bow, and here’s everything you need to know about adding it to your inventory. When it launched in March 2021, Fortnite Season 6 introduced a bunch of features to the game to improve the battle royale experience, including a revamped weapon pool (which we’ve ranked here) and an entirely new weapon crafting system. Since then, we’ve seen the introduction of the Recycler weapon and the brief return of the Egg Launcher, but other than that, it’s been pretty quiet in terms of new weapons, especially in comparison to Season 5 when it felt like a new exotic weapon arrived every week. Fortunately, a brand new exotic weapon has now gone live in the game, which should help shake things up a bit. It’s called the Grappler Bow, and we’ve got all the information you need to get it and try it out for yourself. Grappler Bow location in Fortnite Unlike the other bows in Season 6 such as the Primal Bow and the Mechanical Bow, you won’t be able to find the Grappler Bow as floor loot or in chests. You can’t upgrade to it, either, like you can with the Stink Bow or the Explosive Bow. In order to get the Grappler Bow, you’ll have to locate Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft and purchase it from her. The Grappler Bow is the first new Exotic weapon to be introduced in Season 6. While some previous Exotics were carried over from Season 5, the amount was greatly reduced, leaving the pool a little slim. • Guardians of the Galaxy Fortnite skins slammed for absurd price tag – Dexerto

Guardians of the Galaxy Fortnite skins slammed for absurd price tag Epic GamesFortnite players have slammed the new Guardians of the Galaxy skins for its absurd price tag. A new collaboration has arrived in Fortnite that brings three iconic characters from Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy films namely Drax, Mantis, and Young Adult Groot. It has arrived as a cosmetic bundle that is sold at platform stores rather than the Item Shop and can only be bought with real money and not V-Bucks. However, players were taken aback after seeing the bundle boasts a price tag of $28.99, calling it “absurd” and a “cash grab” opportunity for Epic and have thus slammed Marvel and Fortnite. “When their own game is currently cheaper than 3 skins”, said one player comparing the price tag of Square Enix’s GOTG game to the cosmetic bundle. “I was semi-interested in buying this but $30 is ridiculous. There are so many fantastic full-fledged video games that cost less than that”, said another. A third user chimed in, “Epic linked up with Disney & the greed maxing out.” A fourth one commented, “$30 and it’s not even the whole team.” A fifth user replied, “Thought it would be $19.99 but $30? F**k outta here.” Even though each skin in the Guardians of the Galaxy bundle also comes with its own LEGO style, players are tempted by a couple of emotes that are locked by the bundle and believed should’ve been released in the Item Shop. The Guardians of the Galaxy Pack is now out on the storefronts of Epic Games, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, and other retailers, and will leave the shop on June 3, 2024.

  • Gold material in Fortnite Season 2? Clues found in Creative mode – Dexerto

Gold material in Fortnite Season 2? Clues found in Creative mode Epic GamesFortnite Chapter 2, Season 2 is just days away, and eagle-eyed fans have spotted a new hint in the game’s Creative mode which appears to confirm that gold will be a building material when the new update launches. After the longest season in Fortnite’s history, fans of the popular battle royale title are eagerly awaiting the launch of Season 2 and will hope it brings some significant changes to the game after a somewhat basic first part of Chapter 2. Little is known about what we can expect when the action begins on Thursday, February 20, although Epic Games have already started drop teasers, with many focusing on the idea of gold, something which may be a clue that Fortnite fans could have a brand-new material to build with when the jump out of the Battle Bus and into Season 2. Many will have already noticed an influx of golden items into the game. Various items have already changed from their usual materials into the shiny, unbreakable version, leaving players swinging their pickaxes in vain as they unsuccessfully attempted to break it down for materials, or perhaps goodies. In fact, it’s rumored that the entire center island could turn gold, as more and more objects on this small landmass turn into their new versions. Now, it appears that Epic Games have already dropped a major hint that suggests players will be able to build with gold in Season 2, thanks to a setting that’s been spotted in Creative mode that appears to treat the precious metal like the three materials that already exist in the game in wood, brick, and metal. Currently, it offers coins like the Search and Destroy mode, but some believe it will soon offer the material instead. In it, players can opt to grant players with gold upon elimination, much like the other materials, prompting many to believe that we will soon be cranking 90s and creating golden towers, something that we’ve never seen in the game before. Others have suggested that it could be used as an in-game currency to purchase weapons or ammo, however, players can already trade in materials to do this, so it seems unlikely that the developers would change that system when players have become accustomed to and hasn’t been an issue for balancing. It seems like we’ll have to wait for February 20 to be certain, when Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 officially kicks off.

  • God of War Kratos skin coming to Fortnite Season 5: what we know so far – Dexerto

God of War Kratos skin coming to Fortnite Season 5: what we know so far Sony Interactive / Epic GamesFortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 is officially here, which means there’s a ton of leaks for the game that have been swarming the internet. One notable skin that’s leaked is that of Kratos from the God of War series, which looks very likely to be coming soon. Fortnite’s crossovers usually involve some pretty heavy hitters. Season 4 had an entire Marvel-themed battle pass, which pretty much takes the cake for crossovers in the battle royale game’s long history. That being said, it seems like these crossovers not only aren’t stopping but they’re now involving other equally popular franchises, such as God of War, one of the most critically-acclaimed game series out there. According to a brand new leak, Kratos, the main character from GoW, will be making his way into Fortnite in the very near future. Note to self, do not research targets before transporting them to the island because if you do, you might find out a few things you really don’t wanna know like, I don’t know know, for example, the next guy that you’re picking up has literally vanquished multiple gods with his bare hands in a fit on uncontrollable rage. *sigh* Here we go”. While neither Kratos nor God of War are specifically mentioned in the recording, there’s almost no doubt who Jonesy is talking about – not many game characters out there have “literally vanquished multiple gods with his bare hands.” Incoming audio transmission from @FortniteGame 🔊 pic.twitter.com/SdpmU7OmkM — PlayStation (@PlayStation) December 2, 2020 When is the God of War Kratos skin coming to Fortnite? There are two big questions surrounding the sudden appearance of Kratos as a Fortnite skin: when will it get added to the game and what other items will be included. To answer the first question – no one knows yet, although it seems likelier that Epic Games will add it sooner rather than later. As for any other themed cosmetics, it would be shocking if the outfit didn’t come with the character’s iconic Leviathan ax as a usable pickaxe, along with perhaps an emote of him yelling ferociously as well as some sort of back-bling. The only bad news is – well, if you’re not on a PS4 or PS5 – this skin will almost certainly be exclusive to PlayStation users since GoW is a PS-exclusive franchise. Also, Epic have done numerous similar promotions with Sony before, such as the PlayStation bundles that would get released every few months early in Fortnite’s existence.

  • Goated Fortnite strategy lets you farm “easy kills” – Dexerto

Goated Fortnite strategy lets you farm “easy kills” Epic GamesAre you tired of getting eliminated by other players before you can even react in Fortnite? Check out this clever Fortnite trick that can help you get “easy kills.” We’ve all been there; you see footsteps approaching you in Fortnite, and you try to gun down whoever’s trying to get you killed. And just when you’re about to chip their last bit of remaining health, they use a Shockwave Grenade to jump away to safety. The next thing you know, your location is exposed due to the gunshot sounds you made, leaving you to get sniped from a mile away. There are so many things that can go wrong when facing enemies head-on, regardless of where you are. That said, this one simple trick can help you secure “easy kills” in an unassuming way. This strat was shared by one player in a Reddit thread and it involves using an SUV. You’ll need your character to sit at the back of the car to pull off this strat. So, do keep in mind that this only works with a four-passenger vehicle and not the types that only have two seats. Otherwise, you’ll be seen in the driver’s seat or the window. After that, just drive somewhere crowded on the map and wait. If you’re lucky, you might come across some players who are tempted to go near the car or simply pass by. That’s your chance to whip out your weapon and take them down. Better yet, don’t touch the eliminated player’s loot. Yes, it’s tempting, but chances are they have something good that will lure others in. For example, the eliminated player in the example on Reddit dropped their crown, Medallion, and legendary Huntress DMR in the clip. These were enough to convince another player to let down their guard as they attempted to loot them out in the open. By the time they reacted to the shots, it was already too late. If you’re looking into trying this trick, you’ll want to keep an eye on gas stations, as that’s where you’ll usually find an SUV. Additionally, if you haven’t yet, make sure to turn on footsteps in your settings so you’ll have a visual cue if someone is walking or running nearby.

  • “Goated” Fortnite trick lets you secure chest loot when surrounded by enemies – Dexerto

“Goated” Fortnite trick lets you secure chest loot when surrounded by enemies Epic GamesHaving trouble looting chests in Fortnite as soon as you drop? Check out this clever Fortnite trick that can help you secure your loot easier. As a battle royale game, having good loot in Fortnite is important. While it’s true that you can still secure eliminations regardless of the weapon, it goes without saying that getting your hands on some of the OP items can help you get to the final circle easier. One way to find the best items in Chapter 5, Season 2 is from God chests or Underworld Chests. These chests glow brightly and have a distinctive sound to them, which makes them easy to spot. The only problem with them is that you’ll be competing with others to open them and get your loot. However, one player has shared a trick for securing a God Chest in one of the most popular POIs in the current chapter. As seen from the clip posted in a Reddit thread, to pull off this trick you’re going to need a group emote equipped. The most important thing to do here is to focus on landing near the chest as soon as possible and then quickly use the emote while other players attempt to open the chest. If done at the right time, other players would be forced to emote with you before they can open the chest. This is your chance to press the interact button on the chest and obtain your loot. It’s also worth noting that this works for other types of chests and drops as well. Though it’s probably best used during early game when most players are still looting. Fortnite has a ton of group emotes that frequently rotate in the Item Shop. If you’re wondering what the player in question was using, it was the “You’re a Winner” Icon Series emote.

  • Gifting system finally coming to Fortnite Battle Royale – Dexerto

Gifting system finally coming to Fortnite Battle Royale It looks like a gifting system will finally be implemented in Fortnite, as data miners discover the development of the system in the latter stages in game files. Players have been asking for a gifting system in Fortnite for a while now, but Epic Games have remained completely silent on the prospect, making many think it would never happen. With the plethora of cosmetic items like skins, emotes, gliders, pickaxes and back bling, the ability to gift these items to your friends who perhaps can’t afford them, or even for placing friendly wagers would be welcomed by the community. The first hint towards the system was the new ‘behold’ emote added by Fortnite on October 12, which could be used to present these gifted items. According to ForniteINTEL, data miners who have access to a “staging build” of the game, have found work-in-progress version of the gifting system. Interestingly, it looks like you will be able to gift multiple recipients at once, but you can only gift the same player once every 10 days. Once you have selected the item to gift, and selected the recipients (up to four), you can then ‘gift wrap’ the item by adding a personalized message. You can even gift yourself, although it is unclear the purpose of this over simply purchasing an item. It also says items gifted to yourself cannot be returned, but does not mention anything about gifted items to other players being non-returnable. Why the Guided Missile is disabled in Fortnite As none of this is official yet, with still no word from Epic Games, it is unknown when the gift system is set to be released in game, but it certainly appears to be quite far along in the development process.

Map one of the first series started off well for FaZe, who took a brief lead early on, but the Ghost duo stormed back to take a significant 18-8 lead going into the second map. 700With their backs against the wall, Dubs and Megga tried to adopt an aggressive strategy going into the second map, knowing they had a lot of ground to make up if they were to beat their Ghost counterparts. However, their strategy pretty much backfired, as their decision to drop in Paradise Palms ended up with them getting eliminated early, giving Aydan and Innocents the 21-11 win and crowning them Friday Fortnite champions. The tournament is double-elimination, and uses the exciting ‘total of two’ and ‘bot race’ format. In each round, the teams that get matched up queue into a public Squads lobby together, where they try to get as many eliminations as possible. After two Squads matches, the team with the most combined eliminations gets to advance, while a third match is played if the two teams end up tied.

  • Ghost Gaming sign three controller Fortnite players to their already stacked pro roster – Dexerto

Ghost Gaming sign three controller Fortnite players to their already stacked pro roster Already boasting what may be the strongest roster in competitive Fortnite Battle Royale, Ghost Gaming have now added three more potential stars to the mix. The prominent esports org announced on February 6 that they’ve finalized deals with Kovon ‘Assault’ Richardson, Jason ‘EX’ Moreno and Shahryar ‘Shah’ Ahmed. The three players have joined Ghost’s pro roster effective immediately and will look to represent the team in official competitions moving forward. As part of the announcement, Ghost released a video in which they showcased the talent level of their three new players, giving fans a glimpse of what they can expect. Interestingly enough, these three players all primarily play Fortnite using a controller, which makes these highlights, and their overall ability, even more impressive. This will not be the first pro experience for Assault or Shah, as both previously were competitive players for MRKN Clan and Team Chronic respectively. As for content creation, EX and Shah have amassed a large following on both social media and YouTube, each boasting around 50,000 Twitter followers and over 300,000 subscribers. While he may not yet have such a strong foothold in content creation as his new teammates, Assault is widely known in the competitive community for his immense skill, so it should not take long for him make his own mark. They already had two of the most prominent controller players in Aydan and Issa, and now they’ve added three more top-tier prospects to the fold.

  • Ghost Bizzle slams Fortnite for adding Infinity Blade ahead of Winter Royale – Dexerto

Ghost Bizzle slams Fortnite for adding Infinity Blade ahead of Winter Royale KevinLaFortnite / Epic GamesCompetitive Fortnite player Timothy ‘Bizzle’ Miller has said that he has lost respect for the battle royale game, after Epic Games introduced the Infinity Blade just before the Winter Royale tournament. The seemingly overpowered sword was introduced on December 11 with patch v7.01 and its place on the competitive scene is already under immense scrutiny from several pro players. Ghost Bizzle tweeted his grievances about the first update since the arrival of Season 7, which also introduced planes. “Can’t believe I put my full time into Fortnite and they pull two updates before a major tournament,” he said. “Huge loss of respect for Fortnite.” Clips of the powerful Infinity Blade have been shared on social media since it was added to the game, showing just how insanely powerful the new weapon is, and Bizzle feels some casters have been misled in the run up to the $1 million Winter Royale tournament. Bizzle also wasn’t happy about players in planes not shooting each other, but instead targeting those on the ground. Also the poor Casters who get tricked into this shit, making it sound like people are making smart decisions when the game rn is rewarding idiots with points — Bizzle (@Ghost_Bizzle) December 11, 2018 He added: “The poor Casters who get tricked into this shit, making it sound like people are making smart decisions when the game right now is rewarding idiots with points.” The sword adds 200 HP, as well as 200 shield, to the player using it. If this isn’t enough of an advantage, whoever holds it will also have their shield replenished each time they get a kill – not to mention the extraordinary leaping capabilities granted by the Infinity Blade. While the new feature seems to have gone down well with casual gamers, the same can’t be said for a section of the competitive community. FaZe Clan’s Avery ‘Avxry’ Lopriore has asked for Epic Games to apologize for adding the contents of the new update to the Winter Royale tournament, asking for a return to the previously used EU Skirmish patch. He posted the following on Twitter: This is a prime example on how competive and the base game are two different modes in Fortnite. I’m sure Epic will do the right thing in the future. I just feel for the guys that had to be sliced up like sushi with bag much money on the line — FaZe Avery (@Avxry) December 11, 2018 Epic Games has acknowledged that there are issues with the Infinity Blade. However, despite the strong opposition, there is no official word on whether it will be removed from the competitive scene as of yet.

  • Ghost Bizzle lists everything that’s wrong with Fortnite right now – Dexerto

Ghost Bizzle lists everything that’s wrong with Fortnite right now Epic Games/Ghost GamingProfessional Fortnite Battle Royale player Timothy ‘Bizzle’ Miller has criticized the current state of the game, as he released his ‘wish list’ for what he thinks needs to change. Many prominent personalities have been critical of the battle royale game of late, with criticism centering on Epic’s decision making and the bugs in the game, as we head towards this Summer’s World Cup Finals in New York City. Ghost Bizzle has already qualified for the World Cup, and has not been afraid to vent his frustrations with Epic in the past. Now, though, he has released a list of things he wants to see change, as it reaches what could be seen as a critical point in its life span. On June 13, Miller tweeted some things that he believes would ‘fix Fortnite’. He starts off by suggesting “Stinks [Stink Bombs], Rifts, Ballers, Storm Flip, Heavy Sniper, Boom Bow” should all be removed from the game. He is not the only prominent community member to have an issue with these items, as SypherPK recently called for the removal of the Boom Bow. Also, problems with the Heavy Sniper are not uncommon, as many argue its ability to destroy any object in one hit is perhaps too strong. Furthermore, a few of his issues revolve around items that have been added in Season 9, such as the Storm Flip item, which was added on June 6. He also stated that the old Bolt Action sniper rifle should be brought back – with the “old bullet drop”. Epic removed the weapon in favour of a suppressed alternative, and altered all snipers’ bullet drop to match the flatter, faster drop that the Heavy Sniper possesses. Fix fortnite: -Remove Stinks, Rifts, Ballers, Storm Flip, Proximity Launcher, Heavy Sniper, Boom Bow. -Bring Back Old Bolt Action Sniper w/ old bullet drop. -Bring Back ReDeploy. -Fix wall replacing, shouldn’t be able lose a wall with high ping. -Buff Divot. What I miss???— Bizzle (@Ghost_Bizzle) June 14, 2019 Bizzle went on to argue that glider redeploy should be re-implemented. Epic Games have gone back and forth with this feature, currently settling on having it as a lootable item within the game, with 10 uses. He also wants to see “Wall Replacing” fixed. This refers to aggressive players destroying an opponent’s wall and then placing one of their own, so they are able to edit it and get a shot on the defending player. He suggested, as many have, that this is merely determined by which player has the better internet, and should be more directed towards benefiting the defending player. Bizzle’s final suggestion was to “Buff [Dusty] Divot”, which seems rather self-explanatory. Many users were quick to agree with the Ghost Gaming star, with his tweet amassing just under 4,000 likes at the time of writing.

  • Ghost Bizzle slams Epic Games over “shit” Fortnite World Cup Qualifiers – Dexerto

Ghost Bizzle slams Epic Games over “shit” Fortnite World Cup Qualifiers Ghost Gaming/Epic GamesProfessional Fortnite Battle Royale player Timothy ‘Bizzle’ Miller has blasted developers Epic Games over the format of the World Cup Qualifiers, arguing that they failed to consult players when planning the tournament. The qualifiers have been going on for the past 8 weeks or so, as the best players in the world scrap it out for a place at July’s finals in New York City, where $30 million is on offer. However, a number of professional players have criticized Epic and their decision-making, particularly surrounding the competitive side of the game and the tournament format. 600Many took issue with the vaulting of the pump shotgun midway through the qualifiers, while FaZe Clan’s Cloak lashed out at them for scheduling issues. They also faced significant backlash as two previously banned players qualified for the finals. On June 2, Bizzle gave a scathing evaluation of the format of the event, as he once again failed to qualify for the Duo section of the tournament. “Joke of a qualifier,” he started, “shit format that doesn’t show who the best teams are, gotta love @EpicGames”. “Rushed into a tournament you [Epic Games] weren’t ready for,” he continued, in a second tweet. “Never asked for ideas from players, just a joke”. Rushed into a tournament you weren’t ready for, never asked for ideas from players, just a joke — Bizzle (@Ghost_Bizzle) June 2, 2019 The qualifiers are formatted similarly to Arena mode, with points awarded for eliminations, reaching certain thresholds of players remaining, and achieving victory royales. However, some feel this still rewards defensive – and boring – play styles, leading to a chaotic end game scenario in which luck is the most defining factor. There was a mixed response to Bizzle’s tweet, with certain prominent esports personalities agreeing, while other felt he was simply venting frustration. The Ghost Gaming star qualified for Solos in the first week of the qualifiers. Three-time Call of Duty World Champion Damon ‘Karma’ Barlow seemed to agree, simply by replying “esportssssss”. Others, however, were less agreeable, with one Twitter user retorting that “the best seem to qualify multiple times in Europe and NA…”. Given the fact there are only two weeks of qualification remaining, it seems very unlikely that Epic will change the format of the tournament, but may take the criticism on board for future events.

  • Ghost Bizzle mocks Fortnite World Cup by qualifying with no guns – Dexerto

Ghost Bizzle mocks Fortnite World Cup by qualifying with no guns Ghost Gaming’s professional player Timothy ‘Bizzle’ Miller has made a mockery the Fortnite World Cup format and current meta by progressing past the semi-finals without using a single gun. Bizzle, who is currently the highest earner in Fortnite history, has already booked his ticket to the grand final in New York back in the first week of qualifiers. As a result, he guaranteed himself at least $50,000 in prize money and has taken the rest of the qualifying weeks to make a mockery of the World Cup format he describes as “shit”. During the recent World Cup Online Open semi-final, the American attempted to qualify without using a gun, stacking tons of mobility items and throwables instead, spending the majority of the game safely protected by the Baller vehicle. Remarkably, he managed to win two games in a row on his way to racking up 52 points, more than some other players notably Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins, to book his place in the weekend’s finals. Had a really fun stream, won 3 games without guns and ended with 52 points!!! Expect a vid soon — Bizzle (@Ghost_Bizzle) June 8, 2019 Bizzle’s tactic arguably handed him an advantage over other players in certain situations as mobility items are considered one of the most important items in competitive Fortnite – rift-to-go, shadow bombs and impulse grenades can often be the difference between life or death. Nevertheless, his performance demonstrated his excellent game sense and highlighted why he will be one of the favorites to come out on top in the solo tournament. When is the Fortnite World Cup grand final? The Ghost Gaming star is yet to qualify for the duo tournament alongside his teammate Dylan ‘Dmo’ Moore and has just one more week to book his place. However, Bizzle will be competing in the grand final alongside star names such as Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney and Team Liquid’s Noah ‘Vivid’ Wright from July 25-28 in New York.

  • Genius Fortnite player recreates emote songs with in-game pianos – Dexerto

Genius Fortnite player recreates emote songs with in-game pianos A talented community member used the in-game pianos found throughout Fortnite to recreate the theme music to popular emotes used in the battle royale. The piano keys were added to the game as part of the Week 6 challenges on November 1 where players had to find sheet music and perform them on the keys. YouTuber Jachael123 uses a variety of elements, all found within Fortnite, to create his rendition for the beats that come on when selecting a dance move in the game. His first drop covered the Default Dance, the Floss, and Take The ‘L,’ garnering over 7,000 upvotes on Reddit. The overwhelmingly positive reception led to an encore with the YouTuber releasing three more covers including Best Mates, Orange Justice, and the Wiggle. The musician’s take on the songs are spot on, but what’s more impressive are the objects used to create the themes. The main instrument is the giant piano keys, but the YouTuber also incorporates sound bytes from assault rifles, pistols and the cartoonish bounce-sound from rubber tires to bring the songs together. Some of the tracks demand more finesse than others, with Take The ‘L’ requiring up to seven components being played at once. In a Reddit post, Jachael123 was asked if more tracks were on the way and was quick to confirm that the covers were coming “soon.” Jachael123 suggested that the tracks that are planned include Hype, Twist, and possibly Electric Shuffle. The Fortnite community has taken creative liberties within the game in the past to create incredibly diverse works of art or test the limitations of the game.

  • Gen.G Esports signs two female pro Fortnite players and streamer KittyPlays – Dexerto

Gen.G Esports signs two female pro Fortnite players and streamer KittyPlays Gen.G Esports has entered the United State’s esports scene with a bang, signing two female professional Fortnite players – as well as Fortnite commentator and streamer KittyPlays. Gen.G is creating an all-female team for the game, beginning with the signage of duo Madison ‘Maddysuun’ Mann and Tina ‘TINARAES’ Perez – the latter of which took 4th place in Week 3 of the Fortnite Fall Skirmish tournament series. Additionally, Kristen ‘KittyPlays’ Valnicek is now employed as the organization’s ‘Head of New Gaming Initiatives,’ who will help to expand the team’s reach by recruiting new players, assisting in brand development, and even engaging in player development on what she called a “part-time basis.” Valnicek will likewise help expand Gen.G’s female Fortnite team, which she feels has a lot to offer in terms of its potential. “This Fortnite team is a perfect example of our organization looking at the industry from a wider scale and identifying an untapped segment,” she stated in a report by The Esports Observer. “Gen.G fans will be incredibly happy about the direction we’re headed in.” Gen.G has been hiring an influx of new talent as of late, including the recent signage former NBA player Chris Bosh, who is now working as the team’s player management advisor. While Gen.G began its esports initiative in South Korea, this latest development marks the furtherment of its global expansion, as stated by its Head of Partnerships, Jordan Sherman. Both TINAREAES and Maddysuun will represent Gen.G this coming weekend for the conclusion of the Fortnite Fall Skirmish, which will take place at TwitchCon.

  • Genius Fortnite concept trap would let players take over enemy builds – Dexerto

Genius Fortnite concept trap would let players take over enemy builds A clever Reddit user has come up with a concept for a new trap that would allow players to take control of building pieces placed by an enemy player. Created by ‘foxbeldin’, the trap is appropriately named “My Wall Now!” and would be placed on walls, floors or other building pieces placed by an enemy player. It would allow you to take control of the item it’s placed on, meaning you could edit it or remove it as if it was your own piece, instead of attempting to break it down like you would normally have to. This trap could help to combat ‘turtling’, a Fortnite strategy which has become a source of frustration amongst fans of the game. Instead of trying to build and attack opponents, players who are turtling attempt to barricade themselves into a square, and stop enemy players from getting in. It could also be used as a means of escape if an opponent was able to box you in. By placing this trap, you could take control of one of the walls, edit your way out and close the exit behind you, meaning players couldn’t follow you out through that panel. While fans are looking for their own ideas on how combat turtling, Epic Games were forced to announce they were reverting a change they made to the game, where explosive damage travelled through built structures, after outcries from players against the new system. Unfortunately, this trap is nothing more than a concept dreamed up by a creative Fortnite fan, and there are currently no official plans for the item to be added to the game.

  • Game-breaking Fortnite map exploit guarantees easy wins – Dexerto

Game-breaking Fortnite map exploit guarantees easy wins Epic GamesA game-breaking glitch has been found in Fortnite that can get you out of the map and guarantees easy wins by avoiding the storm’s damage. With a hundred players dropping into every match in Fortnite, earning a ‘Victory Royale’ can prove to be quite challenging, even for the best of players. However, it was revealed that a new exploit has now been found in Fortnite, which makes it incredibly easy for you to pick up wins. This new glitch allows players to sneak under the map near the Risky Reels point-of-interest, making it almost impossible to find or kill them in-game. Fortnite YouTuber RektUniverse was among the first to share this bizarre bug, revealing that it was quite simple to replicate and labeled it as an “unlimited wins” glitch. Although it looks fairly straightforward it does require you to find a Choppa in-game before you can try it out. Here’s what you’ll need to do. How to glitch out of the Fortnite map First, you’ll need to find a Choppa in Fortnite. – After getting a Choppa, make your way to the Risky Reels POI. – Go to the center of Risky Reels and place a wooden floor piece next to the bush. – Park the Choppa on the edge of the floor piece and build wooden walls around it. – Once the Choppa is surrounded by wooden walls, climb inside and quickly change seats. – Once you follow these steps your character should be glitched under the map, allowing you to avoid the storm’s damage and roam around freely. The YouTuber also revealed that players could make their way back into the map by simply jumping up into the water above. As this bizarre trick can be quite overpowered, it is likely that Epic Games will be looking to release a fix for it in a future update.

  • Gangnam Style dance and emote finally available in Fortnite – Dexerto

Gangnam Style dance and emote finally available in Fortnite Epic GamesAfter some brand new leaks from reliable sources and a tease from the official Korean Fortnite Twitter account, a Gangnam Style emote is officially available in the popular battle royale game nearly 8 years after the original music video was uploaded to YouTube. Popular dances and music video crossovers are nothing new for Fortnite. Both Doja Cat’s Say So and Megan Thee Stallion’s Savage, for example, are emotes that float in and out of the in-game store from time to time. Now, another incredibly famous song is coming to the game as a dance/emote – but this one seems like it’s around eight years too late. After a slew of leaks from notable sources like ShiinaBR and HYPEX and an official tease from the Korean Fortnite account, the Gangnam Style dance emote is finally available for users to buy from the Item Shop. Luckily, there are no major hoops players have to jump through in order to get it: Simply tab over to the Item Shop and purchase it for 500 V-Bucks. All things considered, it’s not a bad price, especially for a dance and song as iconic as this one. While the original tease from the Korean Fortnite Twitter page didn’t have a release date associated with it, it was pretty much a forgone conclusion that it would be available in the Item Shop soon, as the multiple leakers found evidence for it a few hours before it went live. As for the emote itself, it’s clearly based off of the iconic dance that artist PSY performs in the now infamous music video for the song, which has racked up nearly 4 billion views and currently stands as one of the most-viewed YouTube videos of all time. The song, of course, also plays in the background, completing the iconic dance – although it would have been shocking if it didn’t have the original music to go with it. At the end of the day, this is a hilarious addition to the game – and even though Gangnam Style is long past it’s time in the spotlight, it’s still a welcome addition. Here’s hoping it stays in the item shop for at least a few days.

  • Game-breaking Fortnite ‘instakill’ bug appears amid Chapter 5 launch – Dexerto

Game-breaking Fortnite ‘instakill’ bug appears amid Chapter 5 launch Epic Games / FOXFortnite Battle Royale players have been left anxiously waiting to play with Family Guy’s Peter Griffin in-game and level up the Battle Pass, but right before Chapter 5 started, a terrible issue reared its head. Chapter 5, Season 1 sent most of the community into a long player queue after the Eminem Big Bang event closed up. Epic Games announced that they would be replaying the event, too, for those who missed it due to no fault of their own. The Weeknd will also headline a concert in the game to kick off a new Festival mode, in due course. However, before diving into the new season and all the content that comes with it, fans were left concerned by a clip showing one location can eliminate you instantly in the Battle Royale mode. Fortnite Chapter 5 launch accidentally patched instant-death location As seen in footage shared by Reddit user SpiritedComparison55 on December 2, an instant death location was found on the old Fortnite map. It was found at Loot Lake when driving a bike into a hut, colliding with a wall. As soon as it happened, they were stunned to see the ‘placed 30th’ icon appear, signaling it was the end of the road in their quest for a Victory Royale. One player replied: “Lmao me and my friend were playing we’re doing this yesterday coming from the other side and he was on the back and I just died we were so confused.” A second said when it happened to them previously, they had just assumed somebody had a great sniper shot. The post gained traction on the day of the game’s Chapter 5 launch, which is set to completely shake up the content in Epic Games’ title. The Season 1 patch notes revealed weapon mods, Peter Griffin, and a new train system is arriving in the update – and luckily for players, it should automatically patch the game-breaking, insta-death location as well. Another user replied to the clip: “Don’t worry bro, they’re fixing this by changing the whole map…” For more information on Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 1, check out our news page here. We’ll be keeping fans up to date with all of the changes with breaking news and guides.

  • Game-breaking Fortnite exploit makes players immune to storm damage – Dexerto

Game-breaking Fortnite exploit makes players immune to storm damage Epic GamesA game-breaking Fortnite bug has been discovered that allows players to hang around in the storm without taking damage, providing an easy victory. Since the launch of Fortnite Chapter 2, there have been a few major bugs that have come out that will let players easily level through their Battle Pass. The first one lets players collect an endless amount of experience by visiting the four bridges around the map, and this second one will let players collect free wins if they don’t care about their dignity. This exploit allows players to survive in the storm without losing any health, so they’ll be able to just hang back while the circle closes without taking any damage whatsoever. Many players have already been running into these exploits, meaning the word is spreading and Epic will have no choice but to address this one quick. Twitter page FNBRHQ posted a video on how to perform the exploit, revealing just how easy it is. NEW Gamebreaking Exploit Unlimited Health! #Fortnite pic.twitter.com/DTPaYSHWdW — Fortnite News :goat: (@FNBRHQ) October 17, 2019 All you have to do is land in the Slurpy Swamp and run into a wall where you’ll then be given a constant regeneration of your health. It turns out that the water in this swamp is more powerful than it seems. This is definitely an unfortunate glitch to have in the game as it’ll be very frustrating to lose to somebody performing this exploit. Twitter user swashintv captured the final moments of their game, showing a second-place finish thanks to the glitch. I wish I was cool enough to be a F0rtn!t3 h@cKerrr pic.twitter.com/D82Ml6qmUE — swashin (@swashintv) October 17, 2019 The developers have their hands full with these latest exploits and we hope fixes will be on the way in the near future. At the time of writing, Epic have not addressed the issue but it’s going to become increasingly more difficult to ignore this one as it continues to happen. Be on the lookout for a hotfix in the future if Epic decides to address these two bugs.

  • Game-breaking Fortnite glitch gives players infinite heals – Dexerto

Game-breaking Fortnite glitch gives players infinite heals Epic GamesA new item duplication exploit in Fortnite Season 6 is allowing players to create infinite heals to endlessly camp in the storm, and the community believes the glitch could be behind DreamHack’s sudden cancelation of an upcoming tournament. Fortnite’s Chapter 2 Season 6 has seen its fair share of issues since release. Whether it’s acquiring unlimited currency, using chickens to soar across the map, or having to play the game sideways, the new season has suffered from several unintended glitches. Another bug is now making the rounds on social media due to its truly game-breaking potential. This new exploit allows players to create infinite heals and camp out in the storm forever — which is so serious that some players believe it led to the cancellation of an official Fortnite tournament. Fortnite exploit discovered The exploit first began making the rounds on April 16. In a video shared to his YouTube channel, Fortnite content creator ‘OrangeGuy’ revealed the duplication glitch and laid out exactly how players can use the exploit themselves. The creator did warn at the beginning of his video that using the exploit outside of private matches could potentially lead to a ban — as Epic classifies exploiting bugs and glitches as cheating — so players should be careful of using the glitch against other live competitors. In the video, OrangeGuy laid out exactly how to take advantage of this exploit. The process involves having a full inventory, selecting a throwable item (like a Medkit), then throwing it while swapping the item with another that’s already on the ground (at the same time). With the right timing and some careful execution, a copy of the item held by the player will spawn when the original is thrown. By repeating this process over and over, players can create infinite copies of one or more items, making this exploit truly game-breaking. Fortnite exploit duplicates any item The glitch quickly began to spread amongst the community after it was first revealed. In a post on Reddit, one user shared a clip of a player camping in the storm and endlessly duplicating Floppers, using the fish to regain health while standing in the (typically) deadly storm. While that particular player was duplicating and consuming Floppers to infinitely regain their health, it appears the exploit applies to any throwable item in the game (Medkits, Shield Potions, Chug Jugs, etc). DreamHack Fortnite delayed The same day that the exploit was revealed DreamHack announced it was rescheduling the Fortnite Open tournament planned for the weekend of April 17 & 18. The Fortnite DreamHack Open has been postponed due to “tournament integrity concerns.” While DreamHack didn’t identify the reason behind the cancellation, the Fortnite community was quick to blame the newly discovered glitch. Swiss pro Duong ‘Kinstaar’ Huynh replied to the tweet with a clip of the exploit, implying that this was the reason behind the cancellation. Read More: Where to find every NPC in Fortnite Season 6 – Neither of the DreamHack Fortnite or official Competitive Fortnite accounts have provided any additional information on the reason for cancelling the tournament, or confirmation that the duplication glitch is indeed the reason behind the sudden change in plans. The item duplication exploit certainly seems to be one of the more serious bugs in Season 6. Epic is likely aware of the issue already, and players can hopefully expect a quick fix so they can avoid running into the same troubles Warzone players have been dealing with for months on end.

  • Game-breaking Fortnite exploit instantly destroys anything you touch – Dexerto

Game-breaking Fortnite exploit instantly destroys anything you touch Epic GamesA new glitch has been found with the Whirlpool in Fortnite that lets players instantly destroy any buildings or obstacles their character touches in-game. Fortnite is well known for being the first battle royale title to introduce unique building mechanics, adding a whole new dynamic to the gunfights and allowing for some ridiculous outplays. While creating and editing builds to your advantage is a common tactic, Fortnite players have now found a new exploit that instantly destroys any nearby walls or buildings and could be used as a strong counter. This bug, which can be done with the help of the Whirlpool, glitches your character and lets them destroy anything they touch, similar to how some of the game’s vehicles would. The unusual trick was shared by Fortnite YouTuber DopeFTL, who explained that players would need to travel to the island with the dancefloor between Rickety Rig and The Fortilla. DopeFTL also revealed that having Crash Pads would make the glitch a bit easier, although they are not required to use this exploit. How to instantly destroy builds in Fortnite First, loot some Crash Pads and make your way to the Island with the dance floor near Rickety Rig. – You’ll then need to enter the Porta-Potty teleporter in the main room and spam the ‘jump’ button. – Once you come out of the whirlpool, your glider should be canceled – Now, simply throw and land on a Crash Pad in the water below. – After completing these steps you should be able to instantly destroy any building you touch. – This trick can be quite effective for making your way through opponents builds, however, the glitch does not provide you with any more health, meaning you will still have to fight your way to a victory royale. As Epic Games have been quick to patch other glitches with the Whirlpool, including a bizarre God Mode glitch which made players invincible, it is likely that they will look to remove this one in a future update as well.

  • Game-breaking Fortnite exploit lets you carry 6 items in your inventory – Dexerto

Game-breaking Fortnite exploit lets you carry 6 items in your inventory An exploit in Fortnite Chapter 2 is allowing players to add a hidden extra slot to their inventory, giving them the ability to carry six items instead of five. Despite its historic success, Fortnite has never really been lacking in exploits, glitches, and bugs in the two-plus years it’s been available. While most of them are relatively inconsequential and minor, there are some that can be considered game-breaking, as they do provide players with some sort of considerable advantage. A recent example of this is the exploit that allows players to carry six items in their inventory – one more than the maximum five slots that everyone is allotted. It involves the use of a boat, the new vehicles introduced at the start of Chapter 2, and it’s not just a straight-up glitch, meaning you have to actually execute a series of actions to end up with six slots. How to carry six items in your Fortnite inventory Here are the steps that you need to do in order to activate the effects of this exploit: With a full inventory, drive a boat near an item that you want to pick up and move over to the passenger’s seat. – While in the passenger’s seat, press to pick up that item and at the same time, switch back to the driver’s seat. – Picking up that item will cause another item that was already in your inventory to drop, so leave the boat and go pick up that dropped item. – You will now have six items in your inventory, even though it will show as five. Dropping the item you had initially picked up will reveal another item hidden ‘beneath’ it. – Here is a video demonstrating how to do this method, courtesy of YouTuber ‘OrangeGuy.’ (The exploit for this segment begins at the 0:34 mark for mobile users.) Needless to say, this exploit provides a massive advantage to players who are able to execute it properly. For as long as Fortnite has existed, the inventory has always been maxed out to five slots, so giving players an extra hidden one is game-changing. This can be used to carry extra healing items, grenades, another weapon, and pretty much anything else. Also, this can be used to negate the extra spot that the powerful healing Bandage Bazooka takes up since it uses two slots on its own, but this trick will give one back. However, it’s crucially important to note that the use of these kinds of exploits in Fortnite can get your account suspended or banned. We do not recommend you try this method out in public or competitive matches.

  • Game-breaking Fortnite emote glitch could cost you your next victory – Dexerto

Game-breaking Fortnite emote glitch could cost you your next victory Epic GamesA newly discovered bug in Fortnite is making players regret their emotes more than ever before as your next dance could cost you the match. Emotes are usually fun little animations that players can use in the heat of the moment to express themselves without actually speaking. Whether you just styled on an enemy or simply wanted to dance with some friends, there’s an emote for every possible situation. Unfortunately, these whimsical unlocks have been the source of a frustrating new glitch, as players have nearly been taken out of action while trying to emote. While certain emote pairings don’t mix all too well with various skins in Fortnite, previous glitches have been strictly visual and still allowed players to complete their current match. A new game-breaking issue showcased by Reddit user ‘millk_man,’ revealed just how emotes can actually lose you a match in the popular battle royale. Having just dropped into Retail Row, the player was fast enough to snag some early-game loot and quickly shut down an enemy. Immediately selecting the ‘Switchstep’ emote to flex on their competition, things suddenly went awry. Seemingly glued to the floor for a period of time, the player was unable to move whatsoever after triggering the emote. Only able to turn the camera around while the glitch was in effect, their weapons even disappeared as well. Perhaps it was karma for trying to gloat on an enemy, but fortunately, the game eventually gave control back after roughly 10 seconds of being frozen in place. There’s no quite telling whether certain emotes trigger this bizarre glitch or if the issue occurs across the board with all emotes in the game today. One thing is certain though: if you want to dab on opponents, make sure you’re surrounded by cover so you can’t be taken out while the glitch plays out. Recently, the Jellie skin was a target of emote-related glitches, though they were far less harmful than the game-breaking issue currently facing emotes. Epic is yet to comment on the bug so there’s no indicating when a patch may be on the way to resolve the crisis. For the time being, however, you may want to steer clear of emotes altogether, as fun as they can be in-game.

  • Game-breaking Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 bug lets player fly forever – Dexerto

Game-breaking Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 bug lets player fly forever Epic GamesA Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 bug somehow made a player able to fly and move around in the air without using any mobility item. Fortnite was just recently hit with a whopping 19-hour downtime before the launch of season Chapter 5 Season 2. After several extended periods, players could finally hop into the game and get their hands on the latest new items, weapons, skins, and more. One of the notable additions in this season is the Wings of Icarus. Despite not being mythic, this utility item lets players fly and slam enemies into the ground, knocking them while dealing damage. Interestingly, not even 24 hours after this made it into the Battle Royale, Epic decided to nerf it, making it harder to use in certain situations. However, due to a bug, one player could seemingly fly forever after using the wings. This phenomenon was shared in a Reddit thread, where the player was seen dive-bombing the ground using the wings. Much to their surprise, their character was somehow stuck in a bugged animation instead of landing on their feet as usual. And during this awkward animation, they could freely move around in the air. “Pretty sure I could’ve kept flying like that for the remainder of the game too if I kept flying instead of landing, didn’t want to get reported for hacking though lmao,” explained the OP. Others in the comments were convinced that they would’ve thought OP was hacking if they hadn’t given context to the situation. “Very glad I saw this. If it happens to me, I’ll know it ain’t bull**** cheaters,” one person wrote, to which another replied: “Yeah, my cheater alarm is gonna be turned off for a little lol.” Another user pointed out that they had experienced a similar bug and even cracked a joke about being in Creative Mode. On the other hand, some players claimed that this item may be vaulted soon due to how buggy it is. Broken items tend to get vaulted, but for now, the Wings of Icarus is still available in the game, and using it is part of the latest quests.

  • Game-breaking Fortnite emote bug prevents players shooting – Dexerto

Game-breaking Fortnite emote bug prevents players shooting Epic GamesOne Fortnite fan has uncovered a strange new glitch that prevents players from firing their weapon after trying to perform any of the game’s emotes or dances. Fortnite Season X is quickly coming to a close with the date and time for the in-game cinematic ‘The End’ event being confirmed by the countdown at Dusty Depot. While there is still sometime before that end of season spectacle, players are still jumping out of the battle bus and onto the current battle royale island while they still can. However, despite the excitement for the upcoming season – which will undoubtedly bring a new raft of cosmetics, map changes, and weapons – Season 10 appears to be coming to a close with a few new problems, as fans have uncovered another game-breaking bug. In a post to the FortniteBR subreddit, /u/Merks1 showcased a clip from the end of a recent game where they had tried to style on a downed opponent with an emote. However, as the player tried to pull off the dance, they were unable to do so – prompting panic, and a quick attempt to score the elimination. Things didn’t go quite to plan, as the Redditor was unable to add the kill to their tally before they were quickly flanked by another team. Of course, they attempted to take on the gunfight, but were left unable to respond as their Pump Shotgun wouldn’t fire – leaving them at the mercy of their enemies. In the aftermath, Merks1 was even left stuck in place for a few moments despite being eliminated from the game – seemingly indicating that they had bugged out and something needed to be fixed. Although members of the Epic Games team are usually active within the Reddit community, they haven’t yet responded to the video in question, so it remains to be seen if they are aware of the problem or not, and if they have an explanation for what occurred. However, with the developer’s quickly gearing up for Season 11, a fix for the problem might have to wait until after the initial patch.

  • Game-breaking Fortnite bug lets you stay in storm forever for free wins – Dexerto

Game-breaking Fortnite bug lets you stay in storm forever for free wins Epic GamesAnother game-breaking glitch has appeared in Fortnite Season 5, allowing players to stay alive in the storm by abusing the Zero Point’s healing abilities. With the release of Fortnite’s new Chapter 2 Season 5, developer Epic Games updated the Zero Point landmark and nearby portion of the map after players defeated Galactus in the lead-up to the Season 5 release. The Zero Point provides players with a revamped location to drop into, and also has healing abilities they can use if they close enough to the orb when taking damage. While the healing mechanic is intended, some players discovered a way to abuse the Zero Point and secure Victory Royales without firing a single shot. Season 5 Zero Point Glitch On December 5, user ‘u/Silv3erz’ exposed this new game-breaking glitch in a post on the Fortnite subreddit. u/Silv3erz shared a clip showing a player taking damage from the storm. After the player is knocked and eliminated, their teammate jumps into the Zero Point and is healed. After healing they are shot out and fall to the ground, then repeat the process another time. “There goes one,” the player shouts as an opponent’s name pops up in the elimination feed. A few seconds later, the last enemy player is eliminated and the Victory Royale notification appears. The player using the glitch to survive shouts “Let’s f**king go!” and then both teammates start laughing. While the Zero Point’s healing abilities are intended, a glitch that allows players to stay alive in the storm forever is not something Epic wants in their game. Chapter 2 Season 5 has already introduced several new bugs, like a glitch where players could turn invisible or gain infinite health by abusing the game’s quicksand. “We broke FORTNITE SEASON 5 AGAIN” read one reply to u/Silv3erz’s post. At the time of writing, this glitch has not been added to the official Trello Board where Epic tracks issues they are working on. While they might not be aware of it yet, the developer will probably pick up on the problem soon enough and correct it. Until the issue is resolved, players should watch out for teams abusing this exploit to stay alive in the storm. Any glitch that lets players cheat death is quite serious, and once Epic is aware of the issue it will probably be a priority fix.

  • Fortnite: Game-breaking BRUTE Mech bug makes death unavoidable – Dexerto

Fortnite: Game-breaking BRUTE Mech bug makes death unavoidable Epic GamesFortnite players have uncovered even more glitches with the controversial BRUTE Mechs, including a strange issue where you can’t exit the suit while it is exploding. While many fans might have expected Fortnite Season X to be a huge celebration of game’s popularity, plenty have turned and headed for other titles thanks to the BRUTE Mechs. The vehicle, which was added with the v10.00, has seemingly given people nothing but trouble throughout the tenth season. There have been god mode glitches, players scoring kills from across the map, and even grabbing insane amounts of loot from Rift Zones. Yet, there’s a brand new problem that is backfiring those who opt to jump inside them. In a post to the FortniteBR subreddit, user dragster2701 showcased a clip from a recent competitive game where they had been using the BRUTE to rotate to their teammates. As the players were locked in an intense, moving circle, dragster2701 came under fire and saw the BRUTE destroyed. However, as they tried to hop out things didn’t go to plan. “Get me out, get out, I can’t get out,” he screamed as the Mech exploded and he was sent flying to the floor in a strange animation. Yet, instead of being downed and available for revive, the player was greeted with an unusual camera angle before being eliminated by another player. While many players may not have run into this problem before, it wasn’t just a one-off issue that the Redditor had experienced. “Oh I had that glitch once and sent feedback to Epic,” added /u/The_Omegastrom. “I was in Team Rumble and I didn’t respawn back.” Members of the Epic Games community team are typically quite active in the game’s subreddit, but as they haven’t responded to the post about this glitch. It’s unknown if it’s on their radar, or whether a fix is coming anytime soon. With the v10.31 update likely to drop this week, it remains to be seen if players will be able to not have to worry about this bug moving forward.

  • Game-breaking Fortnite bug lets player survive on zero health at ESL Katowice Royale – Dexerto

Game-breaking Fortnite bug lets player survive on zero health at ESL Katowice Royale ESL/dotesportsAn incredible bug appears to have been found in Fortnite, where a player cannot be eliminated, despite being reduced to zero health – and it occurred during the $500,000 ESL Katowice Royale tournament. Bizarre footage has emerged from the on-going ESL Katowice Royale Fortnite tournament taking place in Poland March 1-3, showing professional Fortnite player and Twitch streamer Team Heretics’ ‘Marki’ remaining in the match, eligible to be revived, even after reaching zero health. Like most battle royale games, when playing in duos, Fortnite has a down-but-not-out state for when a player can be revived by their teammate. From this position, the player is still able to take damage and is completely eliminated once their health falls to zero, and they have ‘bled out’. However, in the remarkable footage, Marki is knocked out by a player after entering a building in Frosty Flights, and the player quickly looks to eliminate him in order to gain the 50 shield bonus obtained following Fortnite’s new update. Marki quickly has his health reduced to zero by the player, but instead of eliminating and his loot dropping, he simply stays at zero health points, and is able to continue moving in his down-but-not-out state. The opponent continues to shoot Marki but remains unable to eliminate him from the match. Marki stayed ‘alive’ until his teammate, ‘Ryux’, was able to come and revive him in what appears to be an unbelievable glitch, discovered in the middle of the $500,000 tournament. It comes after other professional players have experienced issues at the tournament, including audio absences. After being revived, Marki is able to continue playing as normal, much to his surprise and that of his Twitch chat. There has, as of yet, been no response from Epic Games, but the unfair nature of the glitch means it is likely we will see a rapid investigation and subsequent patch.

  • ANOTHER game-breaking Baller glitch found in Fortnite two weeks before World Cup – Dexerto

ANOTHER game-breaking Baller glitch found in Fortnite two weeks before World Cup Epic GamesWith only a couple of weeks remaining before the $30 million Fortnite World Cup, another potentially devastating glitch has been discovered with the Baller vehicles. Ballers have always been considered to be a controversial addition in Fortnite, especially when it comes to the competitive side of the popular battle royale. The complaint most players have had with the vehicle is that it offers too much protection and shelter from enemy fire, especially in late-game situations, giving players an easy way to navigate the normally-difficult endgame circles. On top of that, a new glitch was recently found that causes players who exit the Baller to sometimes become invisible, creating headaches all around. Now, just a day later, on July 9, another potentially game-breaking glitch has been discovered, this time allowing players to use weapons while riding in the vehicle, which is obviously not intended. A clip posted by Twitter user ‘Anime___Knight’ put the alarming effect of this new glitch on full display. In the video, the player can be seen shooting his combat shotgun while riding in the Baller. Although the shots that were fired didn’t actually inflict any kind of damage on enemy players, the number of rounds decreased from nine to seven following the sound of two shotgun shells being fired. Perhaps the most unusual aspect of this was that the rounds were reset back to nine when the player exited the vehicle, which begs the question of whether those shots would have even done any damage had they hit an enemy player. So I bugged the game and got to use a shotgun in a baller. #Fortnite #XboxShare pic.twitter.com/CWjRbGnJlr — Aiden (@Anime___Knight) July 9, 2019 Although the exact cause(s) of this glitch remains unknown as of now, there is certainly some reason to worry for those that will be heading to New York City for the Fortnite World Cup at the end of the month. Read More: Fortnite: All teams for first official trios tournament ft. Tfue, Mongraal, NICKMERCS, more – With so much money and prestige on the line, participants will likely hold their breath in fear of this glitch striking them at a crucial moment and ruining one of their matches, especially considering that there will only be six matches played for both the Solos and Duos events. These glitches won’t be the only things that players will be apprehensive about in New York; the addition of the brand new Air Strike item on July 9 has garnered a lot of negative feedback, with many calling the throwable extremely overpowered. The Fortnite World Cup will take place July 26-28, featuring finals for both the battle royale and Creative Trials, as well as another celebrity Pro-Am event.

  • Further Data Mining Reveals the 3D Model and Audio Files for Fortnite’s Leaked “Drum Gun” Weapon – Dexerto

Further Data Mining Reveals the 3D Model and Audio Files for Fortnite’s Leaked “Drum Gun” Weapon Further data mining of the files to the upcoming “Drum Gun” weapon for Fortnite Battle Royale has resulted in a 3D render of the weapon along with shooting and reload sounds. One of the most exciting leaks to come from the June 27th V4.5 patch for Fortnite Battle Royale was a new weapon, called the Drum Gun, which is expected to be released next week. Players will feel like Epic Games is spoiling them as the update itself already introduced the Dual Pistols, and it isn’t often that two new weapons are introduced in quick succession. The initial leaks didn’t tell us a great deal about the Drum Gun, other than the fact that it looks like it is more old fashioned than most weapons in the game and has a similar appearance to the famous Thompson submachine guns from the First World War era. However, further data mining from @GameCentral_FBR has resulted in a 3D render of the gun model and the audio sound for shooting and reloading. * LEAK * DRUMGUN 3D + SOUND pic.twitter.com/OBD4Z0QuWc — Cross – Fortnite Leaks ボ (@GameCentral_FBR) June 27, 2018 The weapon is currently marked as an Assault Rifle, according to the various leaks, but some users have already pointed out that its similarity to the Tommy Gun might mean that it will be a new type of SMG. The submachine guns are still some of the least used weapons in the game, while Assault Rifles are among the most popular, so it would certainly make sense to add a new SMG rather than an AR. Keep an eye out for more information about the Drum Gun as it becomes available.

  • [UPDATED] Galaxy Fortnite Skin is Set for Worldwide Release – To Be Available on All Devices – Dexerto

[UPDATED] Galaxy Fortnite Skin is Set for Worldwide Release – To Be Available on All Devices UPDATE: It appears this leak was in fact fake, and that the screenshot shown below was not in fact authentic. Samsung Support said “The Smasung Galaxy Skin is exlusive for Note 9 and Tab s4 customers” and said that the previous information was a ‘misunderstanding’. The exclusive ‘Galaxy skin’ may not be exclusive to Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Tab S4 users for much longer, according to a new leak. As part of the launch deal with Samsung for Fortnite on Android, developer Epic Games released an exclusive skin that was only available to users on the aforementioned devices. It was done to encourage sales of the Galaxy Note 9 of course, Samsung’s most recent Android release, and fans without one of these phones were disappointed to discover they couldn’t get the new skin. But it looks like the deal was only a timed exclusivity, and the skin may be coming to all devices across mobile, console and PC soon. 300According to FNBRLeaks, a staff member at Samsung Support explained that after the promotion that is ongoing ends, the Galaxy skin will be available to all. The screenshots of the conversation come courtesy of @muchocracker, but it is difficult to verify their authenticity, so it cannot be said with any certainty that the skin will be available to all. There is no date given on when the promotion will end, however leaks prior to the Android Fortnite launch did suggest that Samsung would have some sort of exclusivity for 30 days. The promotion started on August 9, with the release of Fortnite on Android, meaning hopefully the Galaxy skin will be available to all in early September.

  • Frustrating Fortnite bug has players confusing teammates for enemies – Dexerto

Frustrating Fortnite bug has players confusing teammates for enemies Epic GamesThe Fortnite community has grown tired of shooting at friendly targets due to a frustrating bug that’s been impacting Team Rumble of late. In team-centric game modes, it’s obviously crucial to be aware of exactly who is on your side at all times. Knowing the enemy is half of the battle after all. However, a tiring bug impacting a number of modes throughout Epic Games’ battle royale title appears to be making that impossible. While walking past friendly companions in Fortnite, it can be easy to accidentally mistake their character model for that of an enemy. Typically this confusion would last for a split second before you see a friendly arrow above their head, indicating they are in fact on your side. To the dismay of avid Fortnite players, however, that has not exactly been the case throughout the past few updates. Compiling a multitude of egregious clips showcasing the issue, Reddit user ‘lurker17066’ highlighted how arrows have been disappearing from nearby allies, leading to an outrageous state of confusion with friendly players wasting resources trying to fight one another. Examples throughout the video show how teammates have been setting up for large-scale build-fights due to working under the assumption that nearby characters are actually enemies. Wasting everything from ammunition to building materials and overall time in the lobby, the confusion has even been giving opposing teams the upper hand. As players stumble upon two or more enemies fighting each other, they can quickly take both out of the fight without much of a hassle. “Thanks for the report,” Epic Games Community Coordinator ‘EpicBoaty’ responded upon seeing the clip. “Our team is currently looking into this issue.” While there’s no indicating exactly when the issue might be resolved, it’s clear the developers are well aware and trying to remedy the situation soon. For the time being, if you’re playing team-based modes in Fortnite, try to be extra vigilant and pay close attention to those around you.

With their backs against the wall, Nick and Nio came out hot in the map two, coming all the way to get within one of the leaders, but ultimately being unable to take the lead and force a second, do-or-die series. You can find a full recap of the tournament below, including a recap of the grand final, highlights of top plays, the final placements, and more. Grand Final recap and highlights Thanks to the fact that they came into the grand final having won the Winners Bracket, Nate Hill and Funk had the huge advantage of having to only win one series, while Dubs and Megga had to win both. While everyone expected this final to be an intense affair, since all four players had previously qualified for the Fortnite World Cup, the first map saw Dubs and Megga shockingly go down early, giving their opponents the rest of the match to try and build a lead. • French Fortnite Champion Reveals The Best Ways to Improve – Dexerto

French Fortnite Champion Reveals The Best Ways to Improve A French Fortnite Champion has used a Reddit AMA to reveal what he thinks are the best tips to improve in Fortnite. Thomas ‘Sops’ Bichon, who recently won a Fortnite competition hosted by ESWC, held an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session on the Fortnite Competitive subreddit, when he was asked what the best ways to improve at the game were. While Sops’ answer was mainly to practice, he did offer some insightful tips as to what he does to get better. Sops confirmed that he spends a lot of time watching North American Fortnite pro players, and then emulating their play in Playground, as he believes they have the best mechanics in terms of building and editing. He also spends 30 minutes in Playground every day before he starts to play, just practising his building and editing skills. To improve his decision making, Sops states he will “ go solo, launch a stream, and think loudly, then explain my error when i die, it help[s] a lot.” Sops will also play squad matches as a solo player, as a way of learning to quickly build to avoid damage when surrounded by enemies. Sops and his squad TrainHard Esports won the Omen Trophy at ESWC Metz in early September, securing $2,900 as prize money in the process. TrainHard bested some recognisable organizations such as Supremacy and Winstrike Team on their way to victory. With Sops’ advice fresh in your mind, it’s time to hop on board the Battle Bus and go for that Victory Royale!

  • Free Fortnite emote has secret detail players are only just spotting years later – Dexerto

Free Fortnite emote has secret detail players are only just spotting years later Epic GamesOne Fortnite emote that everyone can get for free has a hidden detail that only some of the most dedicated players are familiar with. If there’s one emote in Fortnite that’s often used to bait people or simply annoy them while showing off, it’s the Crowning Achievement emote. First introduced in 2021, this is a free emote that allows players to show off how many Victory Royales they’ve bagged in the season. Upon using it, you’ll see your character holding a small pillow with a crown on top of it, displaying the number of your wins. Well, if you’re a casual player who has never reached double digits, then you’re missing out on one particular detail. One Fortnite fan has shared their discovery in a Reddit thread, pointing out that the crown emote actually shows different details when you pass the 10th and 20th win milestones. “I just realized the crown emote changes and gains another head after 10 and 20 crown wins,” they explained. Now, unless you can secure some of the best weapons and items and survive the last circle against someone likely using a broken combo, getting a Victory Royale is no easy feat. Hence why, this revelation surprised many players in the comments. One player said, “No wonder I never knew this. I never break double digits.” A different user admitted that, given their max crown wins of six, this is something new to them. Meanwhile, another player commented: “Huh. Never noticed this, actually. Neat.” “Pretty cool find! I’m curious if that’s the only change, or if it has a cap at, say, 30?” asked one user. After a little bit of more digging, I discovered that the unique detail only stops at 20. Anything more than that will just show the crown with three Llama heads. Overall, this is a pretty unique find that surely only the most dedicated Fortnite players are familiar with and can see directly in-game.

  • Free Star Wars TIE Whisper glider leaked following Fortnite 11.30 update – Dexerto

Free Star Wars TIE Whisper glider leaked following Fortnite 11.30 update As part of a promotion for the upcoming Star Wars film, Fortnite is hosting an exclusive in-game screening of a scene and it’s looking like a free TIE Fighter glider will be up for grabs. The Rise of Skywalker is set to conclude the nine-episode Skywalker Saga with a bang and Fortnite is getting in on the action by offering up a new trailer in-game. This event will be held in Risky Reels on Saturday, December 14 and it’s sounding like attendees will be able to get their hands on some free Star Wars cosmetics just by showing up. According to a leak on the PlayStation Store, Fortnite will be giving out a free glider called the TIE Whisper to anyone watching the event. This means that your Stormtrooper skin will now have a nice TIE Fighter to glide down into the action on. RUMOR: The Star Wars Promotion Glider got leaked early on the PlayStation Store! These 2 images have been found, and since one of them even shows the glider In-Game, I believe these images aren’t faked! (Images found by TheCoolerGengar#8556 & LXavierW#1073) pic.twitter.com/dAlHzHRVk7 — Shiina (@ShiinaBR) December 12, 2019 On top of this leak, there’s also another one that suggests lightsabers could be coming to the game in the near future. A lightsaber pickaxe would be considered a must-buy for many Star Wars fans so it makes a lot of sense for Disney and Epic Games to work something out to bring this into the game. However, it’s important to note that outside of the event happening, the TIE Fighter glider and lightsabers remain leaks. There’s not a whole lot of time left to wait until we figure out what’s real and what’s not, so just remain patient. The first Star Wars crossover we saw was a promotion with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which is available on the Epic Games Store. Those who purchased the game there were given a free Stormtrooper skin in Fortnite as an added bonus. To commemorate this promotion, a large Imperial Star Destroyer appeared in the sky above the island to let the players know the Empire was in charge. As it turns out, that was far from the end of the Star Wars crossover content if these leaks are anything to go off. The construction that was in progress at Risky Reels has already been undone so players have a good viewing area of the exclusive scene taking place on Saturday. In the meantime, you can check out our list of Star Wars cosmetics we’d like to see added into Fortnite.

  • Fox News mocked for bizarre “way to cheat” in Fortnite tip – Dexerto

Fox News mocked for bizarre “way to cheat” in Fortnite tip Epic Games / FOXEpic Games have clamped down on some of the most terrible cheating tactics and exploits in Fortnite season after season, but Fox News presenters appear to believe that there’s a potential exploit that might have gone under the radar. Players have seen exploits for all sorts of weapons and items in the free-to-play title in the past, with items such as the Grappler, Shadow Stones, and many others giving players an advantage in the battle royale mode. Yet, what’s been described as Twitch streamer SypherPK as a “high-level strategy” has been revealed on Fox News as they interviewed esports consultant Rod Breslau in the aftermath of the Fortnite World Cup Finals, where winner Kyle ‘Bugha’ Giersdorf landed a whopping $3 million in prize money. Screenshots and clips of the interaction on the news channel have been doing the rounds on social media, where a graphic shown during the broadcast states the best way to cheat in the game, and it’s not as remarkable a suggestion as many would be led to believe. As seen in the video interview below, Fox News had the following up on the screen for its viewers to see: “Way to cheat: Hide in the bushes until the end of the game and you can sometimes win without doing anything.” here’s my full interview on Fox News with @DanaPerino talking Fortnite, esports, and kids winning millions of dollars playing video games pic.twitter.com/u6e4CoNY3V — Rod Breslau (@Slasher) July 30, 2019 Players who have played the game will be well aware that the chances of hiding in bushes right the way through a game and winning without shooting a single bullet, or using other supporting items, would be tremendously rare circumstances. It should come as no shock that the suggestion has raised a few eyebrows, with Sypher jokingly questioning Bugha’s strategy at the tournament finals. “You got some explaining to do. Did you or did you not use the bush cheating strategy?” he asked him on Twitter. You got some explaining to do. Did you or did you not use the bush cheating strategy @bugha — LG SypherPK (@SypherPK) July 30, 2019 While sitting in bushes might be cheating in the eyes of Fox News presenters, though, Epic Games don’t share the same opinion on the matter as bushes have featured in the game since the very start, for cover. In fact, they even went as far as adding an additional bush item to the game back in Season 1. As Season 10 approaches on August 1, though, just remember one thing. Every time you jump into those bushes in Fortnite, somebody might genuinely be out there, spectating you, and thinking you’re a cheat.

  • Four new Fortnite Season 3 cars leaked in v13.20 update – Dexerto

Four new Fortnite Season 3 cars leaked in v13.20 update Epic GamesFortnite players were treated to a driving spectacle on Season 3’s release, with vehicles galore showing up in the promotional video. Soon, those cars will be available to players, with assets for four new vehicles being added in v13.20. While the tides surrounding the Season 3 Fortnite map don’t scream amazing driving conditions, it won’t be long until the water recedes. When that happens, the new map will become a driver’s paradise. In anticipation of the release of four new land vehicles in Fortnite, Epic has started teasing players in-game. First, it was the promo video. Then, it was in-game stats. Now, posters will start popping up around the map promoting the cars. Posters for the four vehicles were found in the game’s files after the release of v13.20. While it’s not the first time players have seen the cars themselves, it’s a hint they are going to be released soon. The Bear is a bright orange pickup, seen driving through the mountains on the poster. The mudflap is a massive semi-trailer, trucking through the desert. Read more: Fortnite Summer Splash 2020 event guide – The Prevalent is a much more sleek city sedan, and it’s shown as that in the in-game poster, driving past a bustling skyline littered with palm trees. The Whiplash is your typical speeder, with the racing stripes to obviously make it go faster. However, players will likely not have to wait much longer to try them out for themselves. These four vehicles aren’t the only ones added to Fortnite in Season 3. A loot shark was added, giving players another way to traverse the oceans. There was also a police car, but that was replaced shortly after the start of the season. Fortnite’s latest patch, v13.20, started introducing more of the content we saw in the Season 3 teasers. The long-awaited Flare Gun finally made its entry, dozens of cosmetics were added, and hints of a Captain America skin for the 4th of July were added too. There’s no set date for when the new cars should be arriving in Fortnite. While no actual in-game assets of the vehicles themselves have been discovered, it shouldn’t be long until they do pop up.

  • Four new Fortnite Summer Splash LTMs leaked in v13.30 update – Dexerto

Four new Fortnite Summer Splash LTMs leaked in v13.30 update Epic Games[jwplayer Puy4UiEa]Brand new playlists are on the way to Fortnite in Season 3 as the latest update has already been datamined and four Limited-Time Modes(LTMs) have been leaked. While Fortnite’s third season brought a ton of map changes, fresh weapons, and plenty of new mechanics, LTMs have been few and far between. Epic Games introduced the Summer Splash event as a way to spice things up and implement new playlists. Though avid players have still been desperate for more exciting modes to come back for. Dataminers have already pulled apart every scrap of new information in the July 21 v13.30 patch. We’ve been provided with early looks at upcoming cosmetics as well as a new POI. However, the developers have also laid the foundation for four upcoming LTMs, all of which have been plucked from the new update. Some will be throwing players into challenging new battles while others will test your fishing skills. Here’s a complete overview of four upcoming modes that will soon be available in Fortnite Season 3. Polaris The first of the newly leaked events is called ‘Polaris,’ according to prominent dataminer ‘HYPEX.’ In this mode, players will be rushing to get their Fishing Rods as early as possible. Only grey-tier loot will be available in open water, but high-tier loot will be “pulled from fishing spots.” As soon as you drop into the map, expect fierce competition around any fishing hotspots. Tank Battle ‘Tank Battle’ is the name of the second LTM leaked in the latest Fortnite update. While you won’t actually be driving tanks around the map as the name implies, your character will be ‘tankier’ than ever before. In this playlist, dealing damage to enemies will steal their shields. Lining up the perfect shots can have you fully shielded up for the next fight. Rags to Riches Similar to Gun Game from the Call of Duty series, the next LTM improves your loadout with each kill. ‘Rags to Riches’ starts out with nothing but grey loot on the map. You won’t get lucky and find a powerful loadout as soon as you drop. Instead, you’ll have to find eliminations to upgrade your gear. With each new kill, your weapons will be upgraded at random. Payback Last but not least, ‘Payback’ is the fourth and final LTM leaked for Fortnite Season 3. “Fight to the top with your team,” its description reads. In this playlist, loot is back to normal. The key difference here is that players will become ‘marked’ after finding a kill. If an opposing squad is able to “get payback” and wipe out this marked player, it’ll be worth two eliminations instead of one. Given that these LTMs have not been confirmed by Epic Games just yet, there’s no telling when they may appear. Some could pop up during the Summer Splash event while others could be held for later in the season. Now that you’re well prepared for the LTMs, get ahead of the curve with an early sneak peek of Fortnite Season 3’s upcoming POI.

  • Fortnite’s Ziplines vaulted after three crazy exploits discovered – Dexerto

Fortnite’s Ziplines vaulted after three crazy exploits discovered Epic GamesEpic Games have officially removed Ziplines from their popular battle royale title Fortnite following the discovery of multiple exploits involving the rotation tool. Unlike previous seasons, Fortnite Chapter 2 doesn’t feature an abundance of ways to travel quickly around the map. Those who want to use the rivers and waterways that slice through the island can use Boats, which were introduced to the game when the new era of the game began back in October. Epic Games also brought back Ziplines, which were a major feature in the game previously, placing them on the east side of the map to allow players to move up and down the right side of the island quickly and easily. Players hopping into the game on January 21 will notice that these Ziplines are now gone, with Epic Games confirming that they were temporarily placing them into the vault on January 20 as they attempt to deal with a number of exploits and glitches that were affecting their use in game. Due to an issue, Ziplines have been temporarily disabled. We plan to re-enable them in our next update. Please note that the “Use a Zipline in different matches” Challenge will be auto-completed shortly. Trello card here: https://t.co/7XK4IMoUAD pic.twitter.com/FM52Nf4Y8R — Fortnite Status (@FortniteStatus) January 20, 2020 Why are Ziplines being vaulted? Epic Games moved to quickly vault Ziplines when a number of glitches and exploits appeared in-game, allowing players to zoom through the air to connect to one, or use them as a way to land quickly when jumping out of the Battle Bus. The most popular glitch was the ability to fly from the ground up to the Zipline by standing directly underneath one, staring straight into the sky, and pressing the interact button. Players would magically teleport from the ground into the sky above, allowing them to travel in either direction much quicker than they could on the ground. Players could also use Ziplines to avoid pulling out a glider while descending from the Battle Bus, allowing them to hit the ground before opponents who were using the traditional method. By flying over the Ziplines, players could pull the same trick in reverse and attach onto the transportation method from crazy heights by looking straight down while flying above them, and simply jumping off to land first. Players also found a way to use Ziplines to destroy structures, with the glitch happening when they connected to the lines while standing in water. The glitch would then cause explosions at players’ feet, allowing them to destroy buildings as they walked, and even glitch under the map. When will Ziplines return to Fortnite? Epic Games have confirmed that they plan to re-enable the transportation method in the game’s next update, but didn’t give fans an exact date as to when they can expect that patch to release. With the v11.40 Update going live on Tuesday, January 14, it’s likely that we may not see a fix until January 28, and may have to wait for Chapter 2, Season 2, which kicks off in early February. The issue has been added to Fortnite’s official Trello board, with the developer stating that the exploits are “important,” and confirming that it will be fixed for the next patch.

  • Four Fortnite pros banned after FNCS teaming controversy – Dexerto

Four Fortnite pros banned after FNCS teaming controversy Epic GamesFortnite Champion Series’ (FNCS) return has been marred by yet another claim of cheating, with the top two Duos in NA-East banned over allegations of teaming during the finals. Nate ‘Kreo’ Kou, Logan ‘Bucke’ Eschenburg, ‘Keys’, and ‘Slackes’ were all suspended by Epic over reports the four players had colluded during the finals of Week 1 of the FNCS Duos tournament on March 22. Claims started circulating after the duos both dominated the field to take home the top two spots in Week 1. Twitter user ‘Droxide’ highlighted the two duos allegedly colluding with tagging each other to save themselves from storm surge. https://twitter.com/DROXlDE/status/1241885431811145728 The pairs had been doing so during the FNCS warmup last week and the official games this week, further fuelling suspicions that it wasn’t an innocent once-off. Epic were inclined to agree that the four players were teaming, which is a bannable offense in FNCS. The two duos were banned for 60 days, making them ineligible for the rest of FNCS Chapter 2 Season 2 Duos, as well as possibly the next season. Under section 8.2.2 of the FNCS Chapter 2 Season 2 Official Rules, “players may not work together to deceive or otherwise cheat other players during any match…[including] working together during the match while on opposing teams.” The four players have issued statements defending themselves publicly. The duos claim that they often scrim together and know each other’s paths very well, and this is why they have constantly engaged in the same area. “Wish we at least had the opportunity to explain ourselves without everyone hopping on the bandwagon,” said Kreo after news of the ban became public. “Also wish Fortnite did some sort of investigation [and] asked us questions.” “We know where people land due to maps that are made by third parties,” added Bucke. “Our loot route directs us to that one truck with the chest at it. “By the time that they are done with their loot route, they end up at the slurp truck and we end up shooting each other since we cross paths.” https://twitter.com/KreoFN/status/1241956264248324097 The ban has divided the Fortnite pro community, with some players saying the suspension is deserved, while others have come out defending the duos and claimed Epic made the call to ban them too early. “I don’t feel like Epic should’ve acted this fast,” said Cody ‘Clix’ Conrad. “I feel like they didn’t have a chance to even defend themselves. “This 60-day ban is life-changing for all of them. None of them are gonna be signed again, and they’re missing a whole FNCS.” I don’t feel like epic should’ve acted this fast, I feel like they didn’t have a chance to even defend themselves. This 60 day ban is life changing for all of them. None of them are gonna be signed again, and there missing a whole FNCS. 60 day ban was not necessary whatsoever. — Clix (@Clix) March 23, 2020 People are hating on me, I’m not the one who cheated, the video was already on twitter before I reposted. I had nothing wrong with kreo/bucke keys/slackes in the past but they cheated and got caught. They’re both good duos and could of done fine without colluding for Storm Surge. — Bizzle (@AimBizzle) March 23, 2020 Tim ‘Bizzle’ Miller disagreed, saying Epic did the right thing by other players to take the duos down. “Two-month ban surprisingly good by Epic,” he stated. “I had nothing wrong with [the players] in the past, but they cheated and got caught.” Epic are yet to comment publicly on the suspensions. We will update you when more information is available.

  • Fortnite’s Zipline glitch kills stunned Bugha during FNCS Finals – Dexerto

Fortnite’s Zipline glitch kills stunned Bugha during FNCS Finals Fortnite World Cup Solos champion Kyle ‘Bugha’ Giersdorf was stunned when he encountered a bizarre glitch involving the game’s Zipline that killed him during the FNCS Finals. Bugha, alongside many recognizable pro players and streamers, was taking part in the Fortnite Championship Series Finals, the culmination of four weeks of intense play to find which squad was the best in Europe, North America, Oceania, and more. While competing in the Grand Finals on Sunday, December 8, Bugha jumped on a Zipline, but couldn’t foresee how it would cost him his life, and almost leave his team a man down. After spotting a team in the tower at Weeping Wood, the 16-year-old hopped onto a Zipline to take a better looking, confirming to this squad that their enemies were now under the tower, before jumping off to wait for his allies to join him before engaging. Much to his surprise though, the World Cup winner became knocked as soon as he hit the floor, losing all of his 100 Health Points as he swam back towards his teams in desperate search of a revive. “Oh my God,” he fumed. “This game is so dogsh*t! Like what? I died to fall [damage]. Like I literally hopped off a Zipline.” Luckily, the Fortnite pro was close to his teammates who were able to save him, but had he ventured too far into enemy territory, or managed to become separated from his squad, it’s likely that his match would have been over with 85 players still in the lobby. Unfortunately for Bugha, Ziplines have become a major issue for players since the release of the v11.21 patch, with an issue which sees players take fall damage from the mobility tool when they jump off and land in water, even though they should take no fall damage at all from the item. Unfortunately, Epic Games have yet to address the glitch publicly, so when a fix for the problem will be released remains unknown, and with the developers choosing not to release patch notes for Chapter 2, it’s likely that players won’t know it’s been solved until they test it out. Unfortunately for Bugha, any prospective fixes will be too little, too late, with the glitch the stand-out moment of an FNCS Finals where he finished outside of the top 10.

  • Fortnite’s “wild” Crash Pad Jr exploit leads to new meta in Chapter 5 – Dexerto

Fortnite’s “wild” Crash Pad Jr exploit leads to new meta in Chapter 5 Epic GamesOne Fortnite player showed off a brand-new Crash Pad Jr meta that when combined with Flowberries will make you fly across the map with ease in Chapter 5 Season 1. Fortnite has been well underway in Chapter 5 Season 1, as the Battle Royale has continued to have further additions introduced via several hotfixes. The Lock-On Pistol and Crash Pad Jr joined via a hotfix. The pistol was previously known as the “Aimbot Pistol,” but due to it having a less than 10% loot spawn rate, it has not shaken up the meta. However, the Crash Pad Jr has returned, after it was previously vaulted. One player has revealed that by combining the classic jump pad with Flowberries, you can exploit it and catapult yourself across the island. Here is exactly how. Fortnite player’s Crash Pad Jr exploit lets you fly across the map Fortnite player BoopNL_ announced: “Crashpad Flowberry rotates this season are about to be wild,” as they showcased a clip that has since gone viral for how best to use them. During the short video, they can be seen first eating a Flowberry, and then placing a Crash Pad Jr on a platform. They then use the temporary zero gravity effects from the berries to jump on the pad, launch into the sky, and fly across the map. This ingenious new method allows players to travel between POIs and different locations on the map quickly. It’s especially useful for making quick rotations with the circle, to get better positioning against enemies, or even for a quick getaway without being caught up. With Crash Pad Jr’s previously being vaulted by Epic Games, it is unknown how long they will last this season, especially if they become far too OP, so make use of it while it lasts.

  • Fortnite’s “worst” quest ever in Chapter 5 Season 3 frustrates players – Dexerto

Fortnite’s “worst” quest ever in Chapter 5 Season 3 frustrates players Epic GamesFortnite players have dubbed one Chapter 5, Season 3’s quest the “worst ever” as a number of factors prevent an easy finish, though there are a few workarounds to complete it. Leveling up your Battle Pass in Fortnite can feel quite grindy at times given that XP has now been nerfed, especially if you only stick to playing one mode. While completing the various quests that are often added to the game helps speed things up, some of them are far more time-consuming than others. Last season, players were fed up with campers ruining Oracle’s Snapshot Quests. This time, players have voiced their complaints in a Reddit thread over the Magneto Power quest, dubbing it the “worst quest ever.” The quest itself requires players to block hits 200 times using the Magneto Power as a shield. That said, not only is it a rare drop, but the only guaranteed way to get it is by purchasing it from an NPC, which can be swarmed by a lot of players in the beginning. Getting your hands on it is only half the battle though. As one player mentioned, “sweats don’t help either.” “I tried to help someone just before posting this. They had the shield, I unloaded all my bullets then used my pickaxe to get their quest done. When it was my turn, they dropped the gauntlets and then a superhero skin crashed the party and nitro-fisted me into space,” they added. “Literally all these quests are a**,” commented a different user, while another pointed out that having to block 200 hits with it is “absurd.” Thankfully, there are a few workarounds for this quest. Some players suggested playing with teammates, as blocking friendly fire also works. Farming hits with NPC is also a viable strategy. On the other hand, those who play Solo can try their luck using a friendly emote, like the hugging one, to signal to an enemy you need help with the quest.

  • Fortnite’s War Machine Hover Jets have a surprising counter – Dexerto

Fortnite’s War Machine Hover Jets have a surprising counter epic gamesIf you’re struggling against Fortnite players who are constantly abusing the War Machine’s Hover Jets, you’ll want to take a look at this weapon to counter them. Ever since Fortnite’s War Machine Arsenal Mythics and Captain America’s Shield made it to the Battle Royale in Chapter 5, Season 4, players are again met with a devastating meta. Though out of all these new additions, the War Machine Hover Jets has been labeled as the necessary item to “stand a chance” until the endgame. With a nerf to spawn rates, however, not only does it get even more challenging to get your hands on this item, but going against someone who has it can be highly frustrating. While that’s the case, some players have shared the best counters to shut down anyone using the jetpack in a Reddit thread. One player explained that most enemies “fly around in the jetpack till it’s out of fuel, then they don’t know what to do.” When that happens, equip yourself with a good AR, as it’ll out-damage whatever they’re going to do. Once the opportunity arises, you’ll have the chance to “beam them out of the air.” In Chapter 5 Season 4, there are a few kinds of AR you can use, and they’re also quite common to find. The AR is also a surprisingly good counter for Captain America’s Shield, as it allows you to break their guard by spamming. Aside from using the AR, another user suggested, “Dodge them until they run out of juice, then run up on them. Don’t allow yourself to get trapped in low and exposed areas. High ground with an SUV to hide behind works well.” Agreeing with this, a different user claimed they’ve had “plenty of success baiting them to burn their fuel” with the Doom Gauntlets and a car. As soon as they run out of fuel, the player would go all in on them with the gauntlets. “Also, a car will allow you to maintain range while they’re in the air. You can pop out of the car and shoot at them while they’re burning their fuel,” they added. Seeing how things are always changing in the Battle Royale due to new items and weapons, players will always have to adapt and find new strategies if they want to secure a Victory Royale.

  • Fortnite’s week 3 and 4 loading screens for Season 6 leaked – Dexerto

Fortnite’s week 3 and 4 loading screens for Season 6 leaked With the new update for Fortnite, v6.02, going live on Wednesday, October 10, data miners have been busy delving into the game files to find leaks for upcoming content. One of the common leaks is the new weekly loading screens, which are of significance in Fortnite for a couple of reasons. Starting with the ‘Blockbuster’ challenges in Season 4, and followed by the ‘Road Trip’ challenges in Season 5, these loading screens provide clues to valuable items, hidden on the map. For Season 6, it is the new ‘Hunting Party’ challenges, and these loading screens will be necessary to find a hidden battle pass star on the map each week. The screens will only be unlocked in game once you have completed all the weekly challenges in that particular week. You can see the leaked challenges for Week 3 of Season 6 here. Once you have completed these challenges you will unlock the loading screen for week 3, which thanks to leaker @TwoEpicBuddies, we know looks like this. Skull Trooper skin is finally back in Fortnite and you can now customize itBoth loading screens feature a Fable skin character, the first as she seems to defeat the level 100 skin ‘Dire’, and fend off a werewolf. In Week 4’s loading screen, the ‘Dusk’ skin character is preying on Fable, obviously in keeping with the Halloween theme, but we’re not sure yet if it is a clue to anything bigger to come.
