  • Fortnite players discover reference to fan-favorite character in New Year’s disco ball – Dexerto

Fortnite players discover reference to fan-favorite character in New Year’s disco ball Epic GamesThe ball might be dropping for the night’s festivities in Fortnite, but it looks like Epic Games dropped a reference to an old friend in the prop that will ring in the new year. Fortnite will finish 2018 in the same celebratory vein its given to other holidays with a disco ball hovering above the battlefield in game, but an eagle-eyed player found some similarities that make reference to an old inhabitant of the battle royale. Posted by VividOlive on Reddit, when Fortnite’s disco ball emerges it has some distinct similarities that some believe it to be a distant relative to the Cube donned Kevin by the community. The Cube was introduced in the waning moments of Season 5 and proceeded through Season 6, and held players’ interest for its mysterious energy and cryptic purpose. Now the Disco Ball can be seen emerging and subsequently delivering an epic New Year’s party, but before being covered in reflective plating it glows with a purple vibrance that is unmistakably familiar. A speculative eye would note that VividOlive’s close up of the ball also shows strange markings before being covered up by the mirror-plated sides. As it stands, the ball delivers fireworks and lively music upon a countdown, but maybe the developers have another explosive surprise as the clock hits midnight. Kevin hasn’t made a return to Fortnite since his episode over the map, and the nod to the geometric fiend might be a hint that it isn’t the last time we see it.

  • Fortnite players discover hidden location under rock with 500 million health – Dexerto

Fortnite players discover hidden location under rock with 500 million health A mysterious rock pool has emerged on the Fortnite map, and players can help find out what’s underneath using their pickaxe. The location has been discovered just outside of Paradise Palms, secured with metal fencing with diggers and bulldozers found around the perimeter of the rocks. Previous leaks have suggested that Dusty Divot could be changed in a future update with lava set to fill in the hole left by the meteor. Could the construction workers be in preparation for such an event? Players can help uncover what lies beneath the new location by destroying the rocks with their pickaxe in any playlist – including playground. The rock has a universal health bar meaning you can track how much is left to break. Fortnite leaker @ShiinaBR has estimated the time it will take to destroy the area – with an estimated completion date of March 30 at 6:00 PST – but with almost 30,000 HP taken away already, it could be much sooner. Back in Season 7, players managed to band together to take down an iceberg which had a starting health of 5,000,000,000. Unfortunately, they were left disappointed as the iceberg finally broke to reveal a mysterious bunker that had previously been seen at wailing woods. Once again, Epic are keeping us guessing as to what could be coming in a future update – only time will tell what lies beneath the new location. Thanks to the hard-working users who will be mining the rock pool non-stop over the next few days, we won’t have to wait much longer to find out.

  • Fortnite players discover game-change Stromwing Grappler glitch – Dexerto

Fortnite players discover game-change Stromwing Grappler glitch TikTok: theasslesschapsPlayers have discovered a way to glitch around the map by attaching a Grappler to a Strormwing in Fortnite OG. Fortnite’s Season OG has brought back some of the most beloved points of interest, skins, and items. These changes saw millions return to the game, breaking Fortnite player count records. The Stromwing planes and Grapplers returned to Fortnite with the release of Season OG. The Stormwings were first introduced in Season 7, while the Grapplers debuted in Season 5 and have undergone various modifications since then. These two items were only in the game simultaneously for a short period of time. Grapplers were vaulted from the game on January 22, 2019 and Season 7 officially started on December 6, 2018. After four years, Grapplers and Stromwings are coming back together in a game-changing way. Stromwing and Grappler combo lets players glide through trees The clip begins with a trio of players; two are riding a Stormwing and the third player is holding on with a Grappler. The plane takes off and begins carrying the third player throughout Wailing Woods. Along the way, the player can slide past trees without colliding with the leaves or branches. “Imagine hoverboard at the same time,” said one TikTok user. This theme follows throughout the video, allowing the player to ride behind the plane without using multiple Grappler shots. As long as the Stromwing had fuel, the player in the back could slide around the map without issue. Only a few days are left in Season OG before the next Chapter of Fortnite begins. It is unlikely that Epic Games will take time to address this game-changing mechanic. There is also no guarantee that Grapplers or Stromwings will be available in the future.

  • Fortnite players discover hidden Brite Bomber Easter egg after five years – Dexerto

Fortnite players discover hidden Brite Bomber Easter egg after five years Epic GamesFortnite players have discovered a remote Easter Egg surrounding the Brite Bomber cosmetic set after nearly five years. Fortnite has plenty of cosmetic items for players to purchase and customize, but some older skins have still maintained their popularity among the player base as classics. One of those classic skins was the Brite Bomber, along with the other items in the Sunshine and Rainbows set: like the Brite Blimp, Brite Bag, and Brite Board. Now, one Fortnite content creator has discovered an extremely remote Easter Egg surrounding the Sunshine and Rainbows cosmetic set in 2023 after it was first released in 2019. Fortnite player discovers hidden Brite Bomber Easter Egg Fortnite content creator Tabor Hill posted a video on YouTube titled “99% Of Fortnite Players Don’t Know About THIS.” The video goes over a very remote Easter Egg surrounding the Brite Bomber skin and the Brite Blimp. According to Tabor Hill, he found a comment from a YouTube user named Fresh Ice which asked him to test a very remote Easter Egg for the Sunshine and Rainbows cosmetic set. To the YouTuber’s surprise, the Easter Egg actually worked—but under very specific circumstances. Before testing the Easter Egg, Tabor hill said he “ran this Glider hundreds of times” and had never seen the Easter Egg happen, but knew that other Gliders like the Cheyenne Dropship had remote Easter Eggs as well. However, upon trying to recreate the Easter Egg, the Fortnite fan couldn’t get the Easter Egg to trigger. Eventually through a bit of trial and error, he discovered that it only triggers if players are using the Brite Bomber or Brite Gunner skin with the Brite Bag Back Bling equipped. The Brite Board Back Bling will not let the animation play. Sure enough, Tabor Hill enters another match with the correct cosmetics, presses the trigger to shoot, and the Brite Blimp shoots rockets out the front of it to conclude the Easter Egg. Tabor Hill ended his video wondering just how skin sets have combo-dependent reactions that fans aren’t aware of. While the Brite Bomber reaction could just be a fluke, it could be worthwhile for Fortnite fans to check their favorite cosmetics sets to see if hidden Easter Eggs have snuck past them.

  • Fortnite players discover exploit to get free Katalina skin without a phone – Dexerto

Fortnite players discover exploit to get free Katalina skin without a phone Epic GamesThe adorable Katalina skin and additional matching cosmetics became available to Fortnite players on mobile. And yet, players discovered an exploit to earn the Katalina bundle without needing a phone. Now that Epic Games has brought back Fortnite onto iPhones in the EU, the developers celebrated the release by giving out the Katalina skin, amongst other cute cosmetics, to players who completed quests through the mobile app. “ArcticPenguin” on X first discovered this elusive method without ever using a mobile phone. They first announced that they earned the Katalina skin through their Xbox in the US, later explaining how they managed to do it. How to get the Katalina skin without a phone in Fortnite If you’re eager to get the Katalina skin for yourself just like ArcticPenguin did, there are a few simple steps you must take: Find a Creative 1.0 (non-UEFN) map – Join the map with a friend as a “Private Game” – One friend must leave the map and rejoin while the other stays – The Katalina quests should now work for the person who re-joined – Both players should be able to do this for one another, just switch up the roles of who leaves and who stays the second time around. Once the quests work for you on PC or console, you should be able to complete the required quests and eventually earn the Katalina skin and cosmetics. Fortnite players in the replies of the later post explaining how it’s done had dozens of questions for ArcticPenguin. Someone wondered if you could get banned for doing this, but, since it’s a free skin, the original poster doubted it. They also had to re-explain that you don’t leave the party, you just leave the map while the other player stays. Make sure they don’t leave the map before you ask to rejoin. Apart from the free Katalina skin bundle, the new Chapter 5 Season 4 update brings along cosmetics such as the Doctor Doom skin and the free Sir Beurre Croissant back bling.

  • Fortnite players discover another way to phase through enemy walls – Dexerto

Fortnite players discover another way to phase through enemy walls Epic GamesBuilding is an extremely important mechanic in Fortnite, but sneaky players have found another way to turn the tool to their advantage, finding a new way to phase through walls thanks to a glitch in the game. While eliminating enemies with your weapon is the primary objective in Fortnite, building is equally important, allowing players to protect themselves from bullets raining down on them from opponents, create bases and shelters, or block opponents from charging at you in close quarters situation. Unfortunately, glitches often mean that these structures don’t keep out players as they were intended to, and Fortnite players have found yet another way to magically walk through walls placed by opponents, giving them the element of surprise as they attempt to secure Victory Royales. Uploaded to Reddit on January 3, user Trotz_DespiTe revealed that they had found another way to run through the solid object, using it to take down an enemy who was unsurprisingly stunned to see an enemy saunter through a wall to take him out with an Assault Rifle. The player found himself in a box fight with an enemy who had the higher ground, and decided to place a metal roof to give himself cover while he planned his next move. They quickly edited it the metal structure above them to allow themselves to walk up the stairs, before destroying the wall of the enemy using their pickaxe, all while crouched under their edited roof. All of a sudden, the player’s gun is poking through the wall, which is still standing and fires off a couple of shots that wipe out the opponent and send them back to the lobby, leaving Trotz_DespiTe to just casually enter the opponent’s hideout and gather all the loot they need. This isn’t the first time that players have found ways to glitch themselves through walls, and many will be imploring Epic Games to fix it as soon as possible so they don’t get eliminated by an opponent who can teleport through solid objects. The developers have yet to officially address the issues, but it’s possible that the 11.50 update for the game which will introduce the new Unreal Engine Chaos physics engine will fix this exploit, although who knows what problems this major change may bring.

  • Fortnite players discover bittersweet Shuri dialogue when wearing a specific skin – Dexerto

Fortnite players discover bittersweet Shuri dialogue when wearing a specific skin Epic GamesPlayers can find a bevy of interesting NPCs around the Battle Royale map in Fortnite, but did you know that speaking with the Shuri NPC while wearing a specific outfit will make her react differently than usual? Chapter 5 Season 4 of Fortnite introduced the Absolute Doom event which brought along familiar Marvel-themed NPC characters such as Captain Jones, Gwenpool, and even Shuri as the new Black Panther. Typically, players speak to Shuri near the Nitrodome. She talks about wanting to defeat Doctor Doom and offers you the chance to purchase the Black Panther Claws. However, Shuri reacts differently if players wear T’Challa’s skin. The T’Challa Black Panther skin was initially released back in December 2020 and has reappeared multiple times in the item shop since then. If you’re one of the lucky fans to own this skin, try making conversation with Shuri. One player left a post on Reddit revealing this unique NPC interaction while wearing T’Challa’s Black Panther skin. “T’Challa! It is good to see you, brother,” Shuri says. Interestingly, Epic Games is no stranger to adding hidden NPC interactions in their Battle Royale, as it had implemented a few with the Midas skin earlier in 2024. Fans in the replies loved seeing this secret interaction. “The small things like that are much better than other things this season,” one response noted. Others called the dialogue “heartwarming” and “bittersweet,” with the knowledge of T’Challa’s MCU actor Chadwick Boseman passing away in 2020 and how it affected the storyline between the two siblings in the Black Panther movie’s sequel. The original poster added to the post by saying they loved the inclusion of the Wakanda Forever emote that Shuri was enacting. Although you can’t tell in the photo, the player was performing the emote as well. Overall, Fortnite’s easter eggs and hidden secrets are always fun to discover whenever a new season rolls around.

  • Fortnite players discover a new instant-death glitch on the map – Dexerto

Fortnite players discover a new instant-death glitch on the map Epic GamesFortnite players have been reporting bizarre deaths in cars as they drive round Chapter 2’s map. Epic Games have responded, but it’s not yet clear how close to a patch they are. Any battle royale game of Fortnite’s size is bound to impacted by a bug or two from time to time. Generally, the game’s developers have done a good job of keeping issues to a minimum, but there is so much content to keep an eye on. One set of bugs, though, that have had more life than others are instant death glitches. Back in Chapter 1 we saw players randomly killed when exploring the greenery around Tilted Towers, and Chapter 2’s version of the instant-death glitch seems to relate to being in a car around the Holly Hedges area of the map. On November 20, one Redditor posted their issue, explaining that they have been randomly dying while driving around the Holly Hedges area of the map. Attached was a screenshot showing the player finishing 41st after an untimely (and very random) death. While not garnering too much attention, the post appeared to relate to an issue other users have been having too, making an instant death-spot the likely cause. Thankfully, Epic themselves were on hand to provide an update, explaining that they are aware of the issue and are trying to root out a cause and patch. “Thanks for flagging this, u/Mablemon!” one dev replied. “Our QA team has been investigating cases like this.”

  • Fortnite players disappointed that Lady Gaga’s iconic looks won’t be skins – Dexerto

Fortnite players disappointed that Lady Gaga’s iconic looks won’t be skins Epic GamesFortnite players are excited about the latest Festival collab with Lady Gaga but were hoping for more of her iconic looks. Fortnite Festival is Epic Games’ modern take on Guitar Hero with everyone’s favorite skins within the universe. Play popular songs on the keyboard, controller, or hook up an instrument and rock on. The new mode was introduced alongside the release of Chapter 5 with Rocket Racing and LEGO Fortnite. The Weeknd was the first artist featured in the Festival pass. Featuring his own skin, emote, and instruments. Now that the first season has concluded, a new artist has been brought to the forefront — Lady Gaga. While her addition has been well-received, players felt like Fortnite missed the mark with her skin. Fortnite Festival needs Laga Gaga’s “iconic” looks Fortnite players took to Reddit to share their thoughts on the current state of the Lady Gaga skin for Fortnite Festival. In a post with over a thousand upvotes, players pointed out that Lady Gaga is missing many of her more transformative looks. “She needs to have minimum of 5 different styles to take us through all her transformation over the years,” said one user. “Poker Face, Meat Dress, and Bad Romance are a must.” “Now the question is will we get how she looks now as the skin, or an iconic look of hers as the skin,” said another. “I wouldn’t mind a meat dress skin of her.” Lady Gaga’s controversial, yet famous, meat dress from 2010 was the main talking point within the community. Multiple players mentioned that it should be added to her current skin as a variant at the very least. While Fortnite has not made any comment regarding the future of the Lady Gaga skin, they did answer the community’s request for more of her popular songs to be added to the game. “We heard you wanted more Gaga,” said Fortnite Festival on Twitter/X. “We’ve got you covered. Check out all the new Lady Gaga Jam Tracks dropping with Season 2 tomorrow!” The Weeknd from the previous collab had minimal variants to his skin. However, Fortnite has been generous with other skins getting additional variants in the past so nothing can be ruled out.

  • Fortnite players disappointed with Chapter 5 Season 2’s “bare bones” storyline – Dexerto

Fortnite players disappointed with Chapter 5 Season 2’s “bare bones” storyline Epic GamesAs Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 draws to a close, players are left with a sense of disappointment over the lack of engaging story quests. Fortnite took on the tall task of incorporating Greek mythology into its universe for Season 2, complete with skins, mythic items, and locations. However, players criticized the main storyline quest for lacking a compelling narrative. Players delve into the storyline and embark on quests through the scrying pools scattered across the map. The Oracle would dole out tasks to players, ranging from retrieving items and eliminating deities to lengthy dialogues. However, players have expressed dissatisfaction with the ‘bare bones‘ nature of the story in comparison to previous seasons. One user even called Fortnite Chapter 3 Seasons 1 and 2 the best example of storyline quest design, highlighting the lack of depth in the current seasonal narrative. “Honestly I really don’t like the story from this or last season. It’s good that this one had more dialogue and a voice attached to it, but both seasons have felt really dull story-wise, especially with the presentation,” said another. Despite the underwhelming story, one bright spot was the commendable voice acting for The Oracle. “Out of all the Olympus quests they had for the story, the only takeaway I had is…The voice actress for The Oracle carried,” said one user on Reddit. At the end of April, Fortnite’s content calendar leaked, detailing upcoming collaborations for the remainder of the year, and revealed a teaser image for the next Fortnite season. Based on the image alone, there will likely be some form of post-apocalyptic theme behind it. Yet, players are suggesting that the following season’s narrative may not even exist based on how this season has unfolded.

  • Fortnite players disappointed by “Huge L” One Piece crossover – Dexerto

Fortnite players disappointed by “Huge L” One Piece crossover Epic Games / NetflixWith the release of the newest Netflix series One Piece, players were disappointed by an unexpected crossover in Fortnite, which they deemed a “Huge L”. As the game has a long history of collaborating with popular anime characters, players had strong feelings about this particular entry. The influence of anime crossovers in Fortnite has been felt throughout the gaming and anime communities. Not only do these crossovers expose Fortnite’s audience to new anime episodes, but they also attest to the genre’s rising profile around the world. The game has recently branched out into anime crossovers, adding well-known characters and powers to its looped island. Over the years, players have spent their V-Bucks on in-game cosmetics based on their favorite anime characters, from Goku to All Might, and even experienced their abilities. The One Piece crossover was anticipated by anime fans for a long time. Now, Fortnite has introduced a crossover to commemorate the arrival of a Netflix show based on the popular anime, which is probably not what you had in mind. In the same manner, players were left disappointed, labeling the crossover a “Huge L” on social media. Fortnite players are disappointed by the recent One Piece crossover, say it’s a “Huge L” The official One Piece Netflix account on X posted an announcement teaser on September 9, 2023, showcasing a Creative 2.0 map that incorporates the anime’s seas and pirate ships into Fortnite. “ONE PIECE – STRAW HATS VS MARINES” is an Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) creation by 3dlab in which players will be able to make a daring escape as a Straw Hat pirate or restore order to the sea as a Marine. The game format is 3v3, and players may use swords, cannons, or pistols to capture the enemy ship. Upon hearing the news, a number of Fortnite players were extremely disappointed, as they had hoped for in-game cosmetics and a crossover event similar to other anime collaborations in the game. Numerous concepts for Luffy and Roronoa Zoro skins had been circulated on social media over the years, and players anticipated that they would be released alongside the crossover. One such unhappy fan said, “Huge L + not what we want”. Another chimed in, “That’s it? That’s the One Piece Collab? THAT WAS JUST A LOUSY ANIME THEMED PIRATE MODE”. A third unhappy fan added, “Seen the One Piece Live Action and Ashoka Series, that was a big L to Fortnite taking opportunities.” While there have been no other reports or rumors regarding a One Piece crossover, Fortnite players can check out the island by entering the island code (7374-8187-1871) in-game or by saving it to their playlists by visiting the official experience page.

  • Fortnite players disappointed by Poseidon skin in Chapter 5 Season 2: “Did em’ dirty” – Dexerto

Fortnite players disappointed by Poseidon skin in Chapter 5 Season 2: “Did em’ dirty” FortniteFans are disappointed that Poseidon was the one to get a “meme” skin in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2. The second season of Chapter 5 has generated immense excitement, especially with the official confirmation of the inclusion of flying mechanics. The season’s theme revolves around Greek mythology, adding an extra layer of anticipation for players. Fortnite has a tradition of introducing meme-inspired skins in their battle passes with the launch of new seasons. Characters like Meowsicles, Peely, and numerous others have debuted in the franchise through this approach. For the upcoming season, Fortnite is at it again. This time by turning Poseidon into Rippley from Chapter 2 Season 1. Except this time, fans aren’t sure what to think of this decision. Fortnite players have mixed feelings about Poseidon’s skin Players have been eagerly anticipating the Greek mythology-inspired skins since teaser art was released at the start of March. However, the current focus has shifted to the perceived worst skin, with many expressing disappointment in the upcoming release of the Rippley Poseidon skin. “Why they gotta do Poseidon like that bruv,” asked one commenter. The top comments on the Poseidon skin reveal reflected being let down that Fortnite turned a beloved Greek god into a slime character. Some, however, found solace in the fact that it wasn’t a muscular Fishstick skin. “It is my fault for expecting something new from Epic I guess,” said another commenter. While the Rippley skin may be a flop in the battle pass, the overall reaction to the theme of the upcoming season has generated a lot of hype. Chapter 5 Season 2 “Myths and Mortals” begins on March 8.

  • Fortnite players disappointed as Epic nerfs Web Shooter ahead of FNCS – Dexerto

Fortnite players disappointed as Epic nerfs Web Shooter ahead of FNCS Epic GamesThe Fortnite community are slamming Epic Games for nerfing the Spider-Man Web Shooters one day before the start of the latest Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) season. Fortnite players have loved the new Web Shooters, inspired by Spider-Man no less, added to the game in Chapter 3. However, you won’t be able to use them as effectively in competition. Epic announced a balance change for the latest FNCS season on February 16, nerfing the now-iconic item. “In preparation for FNCS Round 1, we’ve reduced Spider-Man’s Web Shooters usage amount from 20 to 10 in competitive playlists,” Epic said. Web Shooters in default modes will be left untouched. Though largely seen as a fine change, competitive players were baffled by the timing that leaves pros with only a day to adjust to the update. In preparation for FNCS Round 1, we’ve reduced Spider-Man’s Web Shooters usage amount from 20 to 10 in competitive playlists. — Fortnite Competitive (@FNCompetitive) February 16, 2022 “Bro why,” NRG pro Bucke asked. “FNCS is in one day what the f**k is this s**t.” Others echoed similar sentiments since thousands of dollars are on the line across different regions. “Less than 24 hours before?” Solary pro ‘BlastR’ said. “Seriously?!” Pros were disappointed that the developers didn’t go further in their update, seeing as SMGs and Assault Rifles are still proving to be a bit strong in casual play. “Take a look at the meta,” Team Liquid ‘STRETCH’ said. “Look at what you’re making us play. Fix the SMGs.” “Bro…. all good [though, SMGs are] fair and ARs are not broken at all,” Fortnite pro ‘aqua’ added sarcastically. “And we got so much mobility!” take a look at the meta look at what you’re making us play fix the smgs — Liquid STRETCH (@Stretch) February 17, 2022 “Preparation”…… how are WE supposed to prepare when everyone has been practicing around spidey’s for weeks 😤 — Cloutism (@CIoutism) February 16, 2022 Spidey’s item was praised by the community ever since the item was released in Chapter 3. It was a fun way to get across the map and it even opened up the game for a fair bit of outplay. Offensively, Web Shooters give players unpredictability in fights, especially during extended build battles. Defensively, they give people a quick escape option should a scenario turn for the worse. Now, competitive Fortnite players will have half as many charges in the Web Shooters to account for the current meta with FNCS starting soon.

  • Fortnite players devastated over “busted” weapon in Chapter 5 Season 2 – Dexerto

Fortnite players devastated over “busted” weapon in Chapter 5 Season 2 Epic GamesSome Fortnite players claimed that one particular weapon introduced in Chapter 5 Season 2 is “busted” and “broken” due to its range and damage. As with any other season, Fortnite‘s Chapter 5 Season 2 has brought some new weapons and items. Given the Greek Mythology theme of this season, it’s only fitting that Epic has decided to introduce players to the Wings of Icarus and Thunderbolt of Zeus. Wings of Icarus is a new mobility item that lets players fly and slam enemies on the ground. However, the latter is an all-new mythic weapon that lets you hurl three deadly lightning bolts at your enemies after briefly leaping into the air. While new additions to the game help shake things up, it certainly didn’t take too long for some players to slam this weapon as being “busted.” In a Reddit thread, one user claimed that this is the “most broken item in history,” before going on to explain that they got instantly eliminated through a wall. They continued, “It literally spawns everywhere across the map, goes through walls, and does insane damage. There is no f****ing counter to it at all, as a direct hit does like 150. Don’t even get me started on how Epic is teasing us with Siphon by reusing it for a medallion when it used to be a beloved mechanic. I wanted to like this season so bad, but holy f***.” In the comments, some players agreed with the OP and shared a similar experience. “I was in a building, 2 walls behind, and that s*** killed me immediately,” one user wrote. “Yeah, it doesn’t even matter if you are building or full boxed. It hits you no matter what,” mentioned another. Meanwhile, one person pointed out that it’s frustrating to fight against, especially when trying to heal. A user even went on to compare it with Deku’s Smash, explaining that Deku’s Smash would punish players pretty hard if they miss their shot, while the Thunderbolt of Zeus has three charges and is “fast enough,” making it feel less risky to use. That said, some players claimed that the Thunderbolt of Zeus could be easily countered. “It’s not as busted as you think. Using it multiple times last night, I got shot down more than I hit people with it. And same with the wings of Icarus, I try to fly away and dodge roll, etc. and still end up getting hit a ton,” one of them wrote. So far, Wings of Icarus has already gotten nerfed despite having not been 24 hours in the game. Only time will tell if the same thing will happen with Thunderbolt of Zeus.

  • Fortnite players devastated over “stale” Chapter 5 Season 3 meta and XP nerf – Dexerto

Fortnite players devastated over “stale” Chapter 5 Season 3 meta and XP nerf Epic GamesFortnite players are unhappy regarding the current meta in Chapter 5 Season 3 and the lack of XP that makes it harder to progress the Battle Pass. When the Myths and Mortal season was wrapping up, players were treated to a bunch of teasers for Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 3. The Fallout Collab skins, Wasteland currency reference, and other leaked skins set the bar very high before Chapter 5, Season 3 even started, hyping up the player base to welcome the new season. But alas, during the first day, the game was already met with a significant player count drop. And based on players’ feedback, it’s clear that the major culprit is the new meta in this current season. With the introduction of Nitro Cars, Vehicle Mods, and other items, the meta quickly led to a portion of the player base stepping away from the game. Despite several balance changes nerfing cars and even introducing items to counter them, players are still unhappy with the current season, slamming it as “stale” thanks to the meta and XP nerf. In a Reddit thread discussing the dwindling player count, players shared their thoughts on why this season feels like a “chore” and “grindy.” Of course, cars are still a subject constantly brought up by the community, as one player mentioned, “Chapter 5 was just mid [as f***] in my opinion. The map isn’t the greatest, the loot pool hasn’t been it, projectile weapons, the mods… [and] now this season has just been nothing but frustrating with the cars [and] the fists.” Another user admitted that this chapter has been pretty “stale”, solely because players used to have access to a huge loot pool and weekly unvaults. With most of the player base not preferring to use projectiles, combined with poorly-received movement and UI updates just makes the overall situation worse. Others have also noticed performance issues “squeezing out players with low-end PC specs” with each update, making it even harder to enjoy the season. However, the vehicle meta isn’t the only thing players are devastated about. With XP now being nerfed, it’s also harder to level up your Battle Pass unless you’re constantly playing other game modes outside Battle Royale and Zero Build. “The XP nerf has been killing it lately for me. What I need to do BR, Rocket Racing, Lego, [and more],” wrote one user. Take the weekly quests as an example; players used to be able to rack up 25,000 XP just by completing a quest, but now the amount of XP has been reduced to 10,000 XP. Some players are convinced this is a way to encourage them to play other game modes in Fortnite, but clearly not everyone is happy with the idea. While it’s unclear if XP will be reworked, players can opt to jump into Fortnite XP maps to get a sweet extra boost for their Battle Pass at the moment.

  • Fortnite players devastated as 22.10 update ruins Paradise Quests – Dexerto

Fortnite players devastated as 22.10 update ruins Paradise Quests Epic GamesFortnite Battle Royale players have been left shellshocked after the 22.10 update kicked them off the servers way earlier than expected. The game’s latest major update, v22.10, rolled out on October 4 following a lengthy spell of server downtime. Included in the content refresh was a new weapon called the Cobra DMR, Super Styles for Chapter 3 Season 4, and Holo-chests – while the Boogie Bomb was sent to the vault. While all of that will sound extremely exciting for many fans, a big catch also came with the recent patch. Fortnite Paradise Quests ruined in 22.10 update Those who had been waiting to complete the Paradise Quest Stage 1 until the final day were left stunned as the scheduled downtime came sooner than expected. Hence, they lost out on the opportunity to complete it. Over on Reddit, one user posted about the issue and their post has received hundreds of upvotes. They said: “Waited till the last day to complete Paradise Stage 1 quests, servers went down 11 hours early and now the quests are gone…” The screenshot shows that Stage 1 had disappeared once the servers had come back online, so they had missed the deadline. Others have asked if Epic Games could step in and increase the time limit. One said: “I didn’t get to do that one. They should give us an extra 2 days to finish it, because we didn’t know about the downtime.” Another posted: “Sorry this happened OP. You got burned by previously unannounced server downtime.” Whether or not the developers will take action here remains to be seen, but it could prove to be a popular move if they chose to do so.

  • Fortnite players desperate for old Battle Passes after missing them years ago – Dexerto

Fortnite players desperate for old Battle Passes after missing them years ago Epic GamesPlayers have shared which Battle Pass they regret not getting the most in Fortnite’s storied history. From the ones that feature a certain anime character to an OG skin, the list goes on. Not everyone was fortunate enough to take part in Fortnite when it first came out in 2017. Despite the game receiving a whole lot of updates in terms of graphics, skins, features, and so much more, one thing that has been certain is the addition of a new Battle Pass in every season. For every Battle Pass, players can grind their way to unlock new cosmetics that are only available for that particular season. Though this means that once the season is over, those cosmetics are gone along with the Battle Pass as a new one replaces it. One player recently started a Reddit thread asking others what Battle Pass they regret missing out on the most. For the OP, it was Chapter 4, Season 2 Battle Pass, since it featured Eren Jaeger from Attack on Titan. Others quickly joined in to pour out their frustration regarding previous Battle Passes that they didn’t purchase or even didn’t get to finish. “I regret not starting to play the game when Vader was in the Battle Pass,” one user replied. Star Wars skins have been in Fortnite for quite a while, but so far, only the Mandalorian, Ahsoka Tano, and Darth Vader are locked in the Battle Pass. Meanwhile, another user mentioned regretting not completing the Chapter 3, Season 4 Battle Pass because of Spider Gwen. “Didn’t realize her hood off was another couple of levels to grind. The disappointment was too real,” they explained. “Whatever season Mystique was in. Play a lot of trios, and we would love to complete and play as the Gambit, Rogue, Mystique family,” another chimed in. On the other hand, one user regretted not getting a pass until the fourth season despite playing since the beginning. This meant they missed out on getting the highly sought-after OG Renegade Raider and extremely rare Aerial Assault Trooper skin. Ultimately, the whole thread eventually led to some responses begging Epic to bring back old Battle Passes to the game. One user shared, “I see other games leave their passes up all the time. I don’t see why it can’t happen here.” They explained that they understand the exclusivity but believe “some would be willing to pay double for an older season pass.” With all that in mind, here’s a quick reminder to complete your match and weekly quests if you plan on completing the current season’s Battle Pass. Once it’s gone, there’s no way to get this season’s exclusive cosmetics back.

  • Fortnite players detail “game breaking” bug when encountering ice on the map – Dexerto

Fortnite players detail “game breaking” bug when encountering ice on the map Epic GamesFortnite players are delighting in the snowy-themed map to grace the battle royale, but a newly detailed bug will have players awkwardly trying to break the ice if encountered in a match. Epic Games introduced the snow-covered terrain at the launch of Season 7 on December 6, and the game has since been home to problems that came bundled in the festive season’s offerings. Now a new bug will keep players on ice until the developers can find a fix. Highlighted by Reddit user ghoulboy_, a bug that keeps the icy terrain’s effect on a character’s movement has lasting effects that influence the ability to shoot and jump causing major issues for unsuspecting players. After acquiring the icy feet from the frozen lake north of Polar Peak, ghoulboy_ encountered the bug after the frozen effect dissipated. “If you try to get first-shot accuracy, nothing comes in because [the game] thinks you’re jumping,” ghoulboy_ explained. He also noted his character getting “instant fatigue” after jumping, causing every subsequent hop to barely leave the ground. Although the exact circumstances that lead to the bug are as of yet unknown, players can undo the bug by going back to the source of the problem. After going back onto the frozen lake and “re-icing” himself, ghoulboy_ was able to get free from the bug and proceed with the game. • Fortnite players desperate for new Apex Legends feature to be added – Dexerto

Fortnite players desperate for new Apex Legends feature to be added Respawn / Epic GamesFortnite players are left looking over at Apex Legends with envy once again, as they bring in a much-requested feature in Season 5 that Fortnite fans have wanted for years. Apex Legends was Fortnite’s first real rival in the battle royale world, reaching millions of players in record time to really challenge the latter’s spot at the top. Since then, Epic Games have regularly taken inspiration from different Apex Legends features, such as with the implementation of the reboot van and a well-designed pinging system. Now, another feature has been added to Apex Legends with the launch of Season 5, and it’s one that Fortnite players have been clamoring for for quite some time. Posting to the FortniteCompetitive subreddit, user srjnp shared a section from the recent update patch notes, in which Respawn reveal that they’ve added a “reconnect” feature. The reconnect feature means players can join back up with their teammates in a game after being disconnected, be it due to crashing, internet issues or for any other reason, so you’re not fully out until you get killed by an enemy. This is something Fortnite players have wanted for a long time, and it makes sense. Given the fact that a long Fortnite match could take 25 minutes or more, it feels like a lot of time to invest if you end up being kicked out simply for an accidental crash or lagging out. With this, you can just get back to the game when you’re ready and reconnect in the state you were in prior to leaving, getting started wherever you left off. It’s clearly a popular idea as the original Reddit post received thousands of upvotes and overwhelming support in the comments. Although it’s not perfect, it is a workable solution to a huge issue, and will make these instances much less frustrating. Now, Fortnite players will wait and see how Epic Games respond. Maybe they’ll eventually get a reconnect feature, too.

  • Fortnite players demand rollback on “garbage” Chapter 5 locker changes – Dexerto

Fortnite players demand rollback on “garbage” Chapter 5 locker changes Epic GamesFortnite fans are calling for the urgent rollback of the “garbage” locker system changes introduced in the Chapter 5 update. Fortnite Chapter 5 has arrived, and it’s already a considerable shake-up from the simplicity that players grew to appreciate during Season OG. The new update has introduced new gameplay features, including weapon mods, boss fights, revamped movement, and some rather controversial changes to the game’s user interface, particularly the locker system. The locker is a crucial feature in Fortnite that allows players to customize and manage their characters, emotes, wraps, lobby music, and other cosmetic items. But it’s now been reworked in Chapter 5, and the changes are already driving players up the wall. The locker interface has been completely redesigned and now slows down the customization process by breaking the interface into several parts with a much larger, modern design. The bigger icons now mean that players are limited to scrolling through their items just two at a time on Xbox and three at a time on other platforms. Another update that has upset players is the removal of special color banners for rare skins. The newly updated locker interface now shows a plain blue background for all skins, regardless of rarity. The community has been quick to speak up about the locker changes, with an overwhelming number of critical posts flooding the game’s official subreddit. Discussions among players indicate that fans want simplicity, as one highly upvoted post states, “Can we all agree that the new locker looks too complex? I wish it was simple again and all in one place.” Others criticized the decision, arguing, “There is so much stuff that could be improved, but no, we need ANOTHER revision of an already working locker UI.” The frustration extends just beyond the general aesthetics, too, with emotes, wraps, and banners now all separated from each other in a move that complicates the customization process. Another player shared their disappointment with the change, “I absolutely despise that they separated emotes, wraps, and banners from the skins. Now when I want to change, I have to do 4x the work to select the loadout I wanted.” With Season OG set to return at some stage in 2024, it’s certainly possible that continued outrage regarding the game’s new locker system could see the return of the older, simpler design as well.

  • Fortnite players demand simple change to make wall taking easier – Dexerto

Fortnite players demand simple change to make wall taking easier Epic GamesFortnite Season 7 has introduced plenty of exciting sci-fi content to the battle royale, but many players are demanding a simple QoF change that could improve the visual clarity of the game’s player-made buildings. Unlike other battle royale titles, Fortnite enables players to build cover wherever and whenever they choose. Not only do these player-made constructions offer a solid defense against enemy players, but they can also give you a huge advantage on the battlefield. This is especially true when you’re trying to counter any enemy squads. Whether it’s getting a high ground advantage in the final ring or just deploying enough cover to fix your shields, learning to be an efficient builder is an integral part of the game. However, during close-quarter firefights, distinguishing enemy and friendly structures can be a little tricky. Fortnite building improvement Having good visual clarity is important in any battle royale title and while Fortnite’s vibrant art style makes seeing enemies quite easy, there are times where things can get a little unclear. This is particularly true when it comes to enemy and allied fortifications. Fortunately, one savvy Fortnite player has come up with a way to improve the visual clarity of the game’s buildings. When a wall is selected, it would “flash a colored tint to show which player has placed the building piece,” says SirDuckDee. “This would replace the white flash of a build being placed, making build ownership more apparent.” While this may be a simple change, it’s one that could ultimately stave off many a frustrating death. After all, we’ve all been in situations where we’ve tried to edit a wall only to find that it was an enemy fortification. Not only would this small QoF change instantly get rid of this age-old issue, it would also make close-quarter firefights more clear. Whether Epic adds this change in a future update remains to be seen, but for now, you’ll need to take care when placing structures near your enemies.

  • Fortnite players demand return of hitscan weapon to counter Wings of Icarus – Dexerto

Fortnite players demand return of hitscan weapon to counter Wings of Icarus Epic GamesFortnite’s latest season sees players flying high like Icarus, and with the item exploding in popularity, players are lobbying for the Lock-On Pistol’s return. Fortnite‘s latest season takes a page out of Greek mythology, with season Myths and Mortals giving players the tools and looks of iconic personas from the legends of old. One of the new tools of the trade is the Wings of Icarus, an item that lets players fly through the air like Icarus, although their usage is limited. However, the item’s high drop rate and popularity have players putting their brains together to figure out how to counter them, including a return of a certain vaulted hitscan weapon. Fortnite player wants Lock-On Pistol to return Shared to the Fortnite subreddit, one player suggested Epic Games bring back the Lock-On Pistol, the semi-automatic pistol equipped with a targeting system, to counter Wings of Icarus users. While a few Fortnite players agreed because they want it to return, the idea itself didn’t land well with many players, with most of the replies echoing how easy it is to tackle Wings of Icarus users. “Not really. The Wings become your hitbox when you use them. It’s so easy to hit someone who’s flying because their hit box triples in size when they fly,” one player said. Another added: “Yeah, the wings are my favorite item this season and it isn’t because I’m using them myself!” Another player mentioned the Lock-On Pistol’s small targeting radius would be a disadvantage when it comes to combatting Wings of Icarus users. Although the Lock-On Pistol is currently in the Fortnite vault, it came back towards the end of Chapter 5 Season 1, so there may be a chance it’ll come back soon, letting players put this dream match up to the test.

  • Fortnite players demand rare Kratos & Travis Scott skins return to Item Shop – Dexerto

Fortnite players demand rare Kratos & Travis Scott skins return to Item Shop Epic Games / Sony / Adult SwimFortnite players demanded that popular skins like the rare Travis Scott and Kratos skins replace Morty in the shop. Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 has launched and there is more content than ever for players to get stuck into, like Rocket Racing and Fortnite Festival. One major part of every new season players get excited for is the new Fortnite shop skins. Epic Games usually releases brand new skins that players love, and allow fans to get some old fan favorites like the John Wick cosmetic bundle. However, players have complained about some popular skins like Travis Scott & Kratos not being in the shop, and are bored of some shop staples like the Morty skin. Fans want Morty gone and Travis & Kratos back Despite regular rotations, disgruntled fans are complaining on social media about having to wait for skins like Kratos and Travis Scott with creative memes. While players found this viral X/Twitter post funny, many agreed that they really would prefer Travis Scott & Kratos skins to return over Morty. “If I open up the item shop one more day and see Morty’s mug I’m losing it,” one fan complained. “Waiting for Travis Scott bundle and Kratos bundle to return!” Another agreed. But other players didn’t have high hopes for the return of the rare skins, as the top comments says, “Bro Travis and the rest ain’t coming back.” However, even if the rare skins don’t return, Epic Games has constantly surprised players with their skin collaborations, like the recent addition of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. So, even if you didn’t manage to get your hands on the Travis Scott or Kratos skins when they first released, you can be sure that Epic Games will release new collabs that you’ll find just as cool. • Fortnite players demand refunds for newly age-restricted cosmetics – Dexerto

Fortnite players demand refunds for newly age-restricted cosmetics Epic GamesThe introduction of new content ratings on Fortnite Creative islands has resulted in restrictions on equipping cosmetics. Some players are majorly frustrated by the move, which they call “the worst update in the history of the game.” Whether through earning them in the battle pass or buying them in the item shop, long-time Fortnite players will have no doubt accumulated quite a locker of cosmetics. With Fortnite’s most recent update, Epic introduced age and content ratings for each Fortnite Creative island. While the age rating for Battle Royale remains T for Teen, some Creative maps can now be rated as low as E for Everyone. In line with this, Fortnite’s cosmetics have similarly been hit with age restrictions. Skins with more mature themes can now only be equipped on certain Creator islands. Fortnite players enraged by cosmetic age restriction Cosmetics affected by the restrictions appear to include those with holstered guns or bandoliers holding ammo/explosives. Also restricted are several monstrous skins like Xenomorph or Mincemeat. Despite this restriction rubric, players are struggling to get to grips with just how arbitrary the resulting selection appears. Some cute, cartoony skins such as Meowscles can only be equipped while playing on maps rated for those 10+ because of their weapons. Meanwhile, the Michael Myers skin can be equipped on any map without restriction. Players also expressed bewilderment at the fact that menu music and loading screens were subject to age restriction. Given that these elements are only viewable to the player themself, they don’t understand the justification for limiting these while on age-restricted islands. Epic has even gone so far as to change this season’s loading screen, removing any imagery of weaponry to make the art more family-friendly. Overall, the decision has not been well-received. Fans have been vocal in their request for refunds on restricted cosmetics and the change has even prompted fans to petition it be reverted entirely. Thankfully, the Fortnite social media team has announced that work is underway to adapt gated cosmetics for use in E-rated and E10+-rated islands. While this will be gradual progress, they’ve claimed that most players’ Outfits will auto-adjust to suit island content ratings within the next year.

  • Fortnite players demand more nerfs to “busted” snipers – Dexerto

Fortnite players demand more nerfs to “busted” snipers Epic GamesFortnite players have demanded yet another nerf to the Reaper sniper, complaining about its ability to ruin players’ Battle Royale matches. Epic Games has added many different variations of the sniper weapon archetype since Fortnite’s release. The weapon has always excelled at poking and taking out enemy players from long-range and behind cover like bushes; this is because of its insane high-damage single-shot potential. However, as a result of this, the weapon has constantly been a hotly debated topic among players, who often demand nerfs. Epic Games finally listened to the community demand and delivered on January 2024 in Patch 28.10, reducing projectile speed and increasing bullet drop. However, there are still some players who think that the Reaper is absolutely “busted.” Fortnite players still upset with Snipers ruining matches One Fortnite player complained on social media about the state of Snipers: “[It is a] love-hate relationship with the Reaper,” they admitted and shared a meme that joked about how they always get unexpectedly killed by snipers when they’re certain of securing a Victory Royale. Players immediately commented on the post, whole-heartedly agreeing that the Reaper sniper needs more adjustments. “Snipers in this season are f**king busted. You could lose 75% of your health to a guy you can’t even see (and depending on their mods, can’t hear either),” one fan responded. Other people agreed that Epic Games hadn’t done enough with the 28.10 nerf. “Instead of nerfing the stupid bullet drop which did nothing, they should’ve nerfed the mag capacity & make green sniper rifles do under 200 damage to the head,” another player added. However, some players were keen to point out that Snipers were only busted on Zero Build: “Snipers are just too broken on zero builds (and on builds but not as much).” Still, despite people believing that the Battle Royale gameplay needs tweaking, overall players are very much enjoying the Fortnite x TMNT event.

  • Fortnite players demand Epic stop making female skin designs “boring clones” – Dexerto

Fortnite players demand Epic stop making female skin designs “boring clones” Epic GamesPlayers of Fortnite have had enough of Epic Games using the same female skin designs in the game compared with male versions, which they have claimed are much more diverse. Fortnite’s skin designs have long been a hot topic in the community. Every season brings a wealth of brand-new additions, with the best ones being praised, while others are put on blast. This can be for various reasons. However, following the past few seasons, many have become increasingly frustrated with the lack of “exciting” skins and cosmetics in the Item Shop. Some players have even gone as far as to claim that Chapter 5’s major LEGO collab has “killed” the Item Shop. Now, players have called out the lack of diversity in the Female player skin designs compared to the Male designs found in Fortnite. Fortnite players call for Epic Games to change female skin designs Fortnite player ProdbyPyxlwhip posted: “Fortnite skin design in a nutshell,” which featured an image that directly compared male and female designs in the game. The player made the point that they believe the male player models and skins have various different body types and features, whereas female skin designs use the same ones. This quickly caused a stir among the community. The post instantly gained traction and has surged to 10 thousand likes and over 800 comments, as players chimed in to share their views. Many agreed that “almost every single woman skin looks the same” and called for Epic Games to stop using the same player models. “I’m new to the game so I just assumed all female skins looked like boring clones of each other,” one player said, as another responded: “The male version of a skin will have a striking silhouette while the female version will look like every other female version.” Some players disagreed and instead stated there is a “trend of making both male and female skins less curvy.” One player more strongly disagreed: “What in the f*ck are you on about, most of the male skins share the same body type. “The exceptions are usually just buff, aint no damn “plus sized” male skins, but there is at least a few female ones lol I’m not saying there shouldn’t be more body type variety, but the implication of this image is a load of bs.” Fortnite skins have not been the only in-game feature looking the same in Chapter 5, where players have slammed the “awful” weapon designs that have left players constantly picking up the wrong guns.

  • Fortnite players demand major visibility changes to new Medallions – Dexerto

Fortnite players demand major visibility changes to new Medallions Epic GamesMedallions return in Chapter 5 Season 2 of Fortnite, yet players hope Epic Games will change the feature’s major drawback. Chapter 5 Season 1 of Fortnite was massive for Epic Games’ as the title introduced three new modes for players to partake in — Rocket Racing, LEGO Fortnite, and Festival. It also introduced new gameplay elements, such as weapon mods and more. One of the newest features was Medallions, unique items players could collect for specific buffs. Season 1 saw them give shield back proportional to the amount a player carried, Vault opening, and buffs against automated AI. On the other hand, Season 2’s Medallions dish out unique buffs to match the Greek mythology theme. However, their return has fans begging for a buff to the core downside of the Medallion, mini-map marking. Fortnite players want Medallion visibility updates The tradeoff for amassing Medallions is that they mark your player’s general location on the mini-map for the entire lobby to see with a large golden circle. Yet a core problem players are having is that the circle itself is kind of hard to see, especially given the mini-map is colorful enough to make the Medallion circles blend in. This issue was highlighted by a post in the Fortnite subreddit, as one player deemed it “absurd” how hard it is to see them while lobbying for changes to come through. Many agreed with OP’s take. “Agreed. It’s also difficult to see them in the Olympus area too being all yellowish,” one player replied, highlighting the issue of similar colors overlapping on the mini-map. Another mentioned how the game features way too many similar color schemes as in-game markers: “I often get them confused with my Bounty lol.” Medallion introduction in Season 1 was chaotic, to say the least, as many recalled the Medallion marker caused way more visibility issues, preventing players from determining the end circle. Many commented the current season’s implementation is Epic Games’ attempt to combat that issue. However, a few shared simple changes that could benefit the greater whole. Ideas such as making the borders thicker or even letting players pick different colors were just a few changes fans mentioned. With Season 2 in its infancy, it’ll likely be some time before Epic Games makes adjustments. However, we’ll keep you updated if they do.

  • Fortnite players demand Deadpool skin return ahead of Deadpool & Wolverine release – Dexerto

Fortnite players demand Deadpool skin return ahead of Deadpool & Wolverine release Epic Games/Marvel StudiosFortnite players demand that Epic bring back the Deadpool skin ahead of the release of the new film. Here’s more on what they said. Fortnite and Marvel collaborations have proved popular with both players and fans of the franchise. Aside from seasonal or Item Shop collaborations, Battle Pass tie-ins are among the most used by fans, with newer players requesting that Epic offer certain skins in the Item Shop. Fans have recently demanded the return of Deadpool, a bonus skin in Chapter 2 Season 2 Battle Pass. This is related to the imminent release of the MCU film Deadpool & Wolverine in July 2024. Ahead of the film’s release, fan excitement is high since Deadpool is one of the most popular Marvel skins in Fortnite and is fairly uncommon because players who were there during Chapter 2 had the opportunity to claim it. However, those who joined the game later feel it was a squandered opportunity and are now requesting Epic to add a four-year-old Battle Pass skin to the Item Shop. Because it has never been done in Fortnite before, players are skeptical that Epic would perform the unthinkable and include Deadpool in the marketplace. Still, several players shared their thoughts on the matter, with one person saying, “I wonder how newer Fortnite players will feel like when the new movie drops and they find out they can’t have the original Deadpool skin anymore because it’s locked behind a 4 years old Battle Pass.” Another one asked, “Begs the question, would y’all be ok if Epic said, we messed up on that, and released previous collab BP skins in the item shop, and just refunded the cost of the BP?” To which someone else responded, “I’d be 100% fine with it.” A third user wrote, “As a new player who started playing chapter 5, it’s rough seeing all the collab skins I can’t get because they were in years-old battle passes.” While Epic hasn’t released a cosmetic item locked behind a Battle Pass or a promotion in the Item Shop before, there have been rare instances like the most recent return of the Disco Baller Spray with Lantern Fest 2024, which was previously granted to only Walmart customers.

  • Fortnite players demand Epic Games adds Battle Pass feature from Halo Infinite – Dexerto

Fortnite players demand Epic Games adds Battle Pass feature from Halo Infinite Epic GamesPlayers from Fortnite have been rallying for Epic Games to add a progressive Battle Pass feature found in Halo Infinite, which allows players to be able to complete the old passes they purchased. Fortnite players have always been passionate about the game since it was first released, which has seen various major changes and updates over the years. In particular, anything related to skins and cosmetics and the items players purchase inside the game has always proved to be a hot topic. Whether that be players slamming the Item Shop for being “Killed” by Chapter 5’s LEGO collab or Epic Games supposedly “scamming” them over Rocket League credits. Now, one player has called for the Fortnite developers to implement a feature that lets players choose and finish their old Battle Passes, which they previously purchased, as players rallied behind them. Fortnite players want to complete old Battle Passes Fortnite player joeMAMAkim opened a discussion titled “I wish you could finish older Battle Passes.” It revolved around the idea of letting players still complete Battle Passes that players previously purchased and have since expired due to the season-ending. “I’ve not been able to finish several Battle Passes due to being too sick to play or for other reasons out of my control, and it’s incredibly infuriating. “I paid for this stuff, I paid money, I should be allowed to f*cking complete it! What’s even worse is the fact I’m usually only a handful of levels away from completing them.” Many echoed the frustrations of joeMAMAkim. “I agree! All they need to do is let you select an “active battlepass” so that the XP you earn is contributed to the BP of your choice,” the top comment read. Others quickly pointed out that this feature already exists successfully in games such as Halo Infinite and Call of Duty Mobile. One replied: “And both of these games have shown an increase in average player count over the last 4 months. Players appreciate not being held hostage to deadlines; who would’ve thought.” To which the OP responded, “How dare those developers respect our time!” Fortnite’s Battle Bass for Chapter 5 ends on March 8, 2024, so make sure you level up and complete it to not miss out on any skins or cosmetics you want.

  • Fortnite players demand change after snipers “ruined” season – Dexerto

Fortnite players demand change after snipers “ruined” season Epic GamesFortnite players are taking to social media to celebrate the end of Season 5 as they feel the power of sniper rifles ruined the experience. Fortnite is nearing the end of its most recent season, and with that, the community is expecting a variety of balance changes. With these changes, the player base is hopeful that there will be some significant tweaks brought to snipers. This current season saw snipers become a dominant weapon and many Fortnite players believe they are far too powerful to be sustainable. Fortnite players want sniper changes after Season 5 The conversation is happening on the Fortnite subreddit, where a player made a post titled: “I can’t wait for this season to end.” They share a clip of their game, where they seem to get the drop on an enemy and even get quite a few hits on them, but their opponent quickly brings out a sniper rifle and one-shots them. They go on to say, “I hate the fact that I could be a winning a gun fight and someone pulls out a blue sniper and I’m instantly dead.” Many users in the comments agree with the poster, feeling that snipers have made Fortnite almost unplayable. Writes one user, “Completely ruined the season for me. Almost every game you get 1 tapped after pumping them full of lead. It’s an intended cheat code. I feel that everyone in the matches I play are carrying snipers trying to relive their days in mw2 and it takes all the variety and fun I enjoyed out of the game.” Another player carries this point further, explaining: “It’s hard not to carry a sniper when the endgame is 99% sniper duels and if you don’t have one it’s hard to get a win.” However, not every fan feels that Fortnite is being plagued with snipers and even points to the original poster’s clip as evidence: “Rushing someone with high ground and standing still is not on the season bro. I usually hate comments about skill issue and getting gud and whatnot, but I don’t know what you expect here.” Others feel that a sniper rifle should be powerful and that all it takes is for the devs to add something like a glare to the weapon to help counteract them. As Fortnite continues to evolve and change, there will be plenty of players both complaining about and celebrating the decisions. That’s just the nature of the genre.

  • Fortnite players demand buffs to rare Mythic in Chapter 5 Season 3 – Dexerto

Fortnite players demand buffs to rare Mythic in Chapter 5 Season 3 epic gamesFortnite Chapter 5, Season 3 has vaulted some new and old weapons, including this particular Mythic, which players claim need buffs. Veteran Fortnite players are no strangers when it comes to the Mythic Goldfish, a throwable item that hits like a truck if you manage to land it on an enemy. Now, in Chapter 5, Season 3, it’s finally returned to the game. However, players have voiced their complaints regarding it. As the name suggests, the Mythic Goldfish classifies as a Mythic item, meaning it can be hard to come by. You can try your luck by searching chests, floor loot, and others, but the chances are slim unless you’re lucky. In a Reddit thread, one user wrote, “The whole point of this item was that it could one-tap people if you hit them.” They added, “Meanwhile, this was from chapter 2 before zero build and overshield was a thing.” before suggesting that it should get a 250 damage buff so players can “one tap people in Reload ZB.” With how rare this item can come by, it’s expected to see players hoping it would be more rewarding to use. This item can still be viable in the regular Battle Royale mode with build. However, since players have overshield in Zero Build, you’re going to need to whip out another weapon to chip away at your enemy’s remaining health. Regarding this item, one user commented: “Omg, my duo was knocked, I threw the fish at one of two enemies expecting to do a minus one and kill his teammate, but the s**** did barely any damage, and they killed me. Literally threw the game by using an item correctly.” “Not only that, but please make it do a LITTLE bit of splash damage. I’ve visually directly hit enemies and I still somehow get no damage from it,” one user suggested. Another user is convinced this is a “gag item.” They wrote: “Rarely ever find it, and it isn’t a one-shot kill unless their over shield is broken. It’s also lowkey pretty hard to hit people with.” Others argued that this could likely be an “oversight,” as the overshield mechanic had not yet been introduced when the item first appeared in Fortnite. Fortnite has been known to roll out hotfixes and balance changes, and only time will tell whether or not this item will get buffed.

  • Fortnite players demand broken “pay to lose” Baby Yoda back bling is fixed – Dexerto

Fortnite players demand broken “pay to lose” Baby Yoda back bling is fixed Epic GamesFortnite players have discovered a bug that’s rendering their Baby Yoda aka The Child back bling cosmetic useless, as it stops them from being able to aim properly. Season 5 of Epic Games’ hit battle royale introduced a major crossover when The Mandalorian made his way onto The Island. As well as a skin, a glider, and Beskar armor, there’s also a Baby Yoda back bling for players to unlock. Claiming the Baby Yoda back bling is no easy feat, as players need to reach Level 100 of their Battle Pass to be able to carry the adorable Grogu on their back. This means plenty of grinding and weekly challenges to earn that all-important XP. Now that Fortnite Season 5 has been out for a while, players are slowly starting to unlock the Baby Yoda back bling, but many of them are facing disappointment upon learning that their hard-earned reward is broken. Fortnite’s Baby Yoda back bling is broken In a Fortnite subreddit thread which has gained over 10k upvotes, Reddit user SweggyBoi highlighted the issue at hand: When you have Baby Yoda equipped, you can’t see where you’re aiming at all as it blocks more than half of the screen. Read More: How to get the Predator skin in Fortnite – The problem seems to occur when the player enters and exits a car, causing Baby Yoda to become static. This is likely because the back bling hovers behind the player, rather than resting directly against their back as capes and backpacks do You can see the moment where Baby Yoda blocks the player’s screen in Fortnite below. SweggyBoi and a number of other Reddit users have called on Epic to acknowledge and fix the problem. Of course, an easy fix for this problem would be to simply not use the Baby Yoda back bling. But when most players have spent real money on the Battle Pass and dedicated hours of gameplay to unlocking the cosmetic, their frustration is understandable. “How the f**k did this pass playtests?” asked one Reddit user, while another added: “The view truly is awful with bulky skins and back blings. This one is super extreme though. Hope we just get some FOV settings finally so we can use more skins without having half the screen blocked.” Others highlighted a different problem with Fortnite’s Baby Yoda back bling: “Because it sticks so far out from your back, when you’re hiding it either clips through the wall or shows around the corner.” While the recent customizable superhero skin controversy resulted in players accusing Epic of supporting “pay to win” cosmetics, the Baby Yoda back bling is being jokingly referred to as “pay to lose” as it’s actually hindering players’ performance. Hopefully, Epic Games will issue some sort of fix for this problem in the near future.

Epic brought a massive wave of content for their long-running battle royale game hoping to prove an enjoyable experience for fans in Season 3 of Chapter 4 of Fortnite. As players entered the wild with a new jungle biome, featuring ridable raptors, new weapons, and even a Transformers collaboration, the season had a lot of promise. Even Optimus Prime has not been able to save Fortnite from its critics this time, whereby some fans have continued to criticize the game during the controversial season. Shortly after the season was released on June 9, many started to brand the Season as “boring” and “stale”, with one user on Reddit even going as far as to say “This season is by far the worst season in 2-3 years”. Alternatively, players have praised the season and have been enjoying everything the jungle theme has brought with it.“It has the most ways to get around on the map, and some interesting things only seen in this biome. Loot is plentiful, full shields are a few plants away.” one supporter said. As others backed up their positive responses, “I really like it too! Was fully bemused when I first saw loads of people saying they hate it”, they said. Fortnite players continue to reflect on Chapter 4 Season 4 as it closes As the Fortnite community looks ahead to Chapter 4, Season 4 arriving on August 25, 2023, fans have reflected on the season, discussing the positives and negatives that the season brought via Reddit. The discussion post was titled “If you could control Fornite what would you have done differently this season?” Hundreds of passionate fans dropped in going back and forth in the comments section to give their views. Similar to the previous criticisms during the season, the Jungle biome was a hot discussion proven to be either loved or hated, with many praising the introduction of it and others can’t wait to see it go. “Burn the whole jungle”, one disapproving fan said. Others targeting the events that need improving. “Actually put in some effort to make the Summer Event”, a user replied. The addition of certain weapons has also been highlighted, in particular with the new fan favorite “mammoth pistol” being popular. Although due to the “Horrible weapon meta”, many believe the gun should have been added earlier. Some stated that limited-time game modes should be brought back, which are considered classics by many, “Aways a valid suggestion”, a commenter said. Various users have also praised the collaborations with Transformers and later introduction of Jujutsu Kaisen. Chapter 4 Season 4 is set to launch with a whole feast of new updates when it launches on August 25, 2023.

  • Fortnite players crown one Medallion as “most useless” in Chapter 5 Season 4 – Dexerto

Fortnite players crown one Medallion as “most useless” in Chapter 5 Season 4 Epic GamesFortnite players aren’t fans of a particular Medallion introduced in Chapter 5 Season 4 due to the sheer amount of limitations it has. There are plenty of things that can aid you in Fortnite’s Battle Royale, even when you’re playing solo. Aside from hiring NPCs, using Medallions is one way to push through the final circle, as they give you an advantage depending on which one you’re using. Currently, there are three Medallions players can get their hands on in Chapter 5 Season 4. However, out of all of them, the Mysterio Medallion is one that many players aren’t fond of using. In a Reddit thread, one user went as far as slamming the Mysterio Medallion as “completely worthless.” “Let’s be honest, this has to be the most useless Mythic of all time. For anyone who doesn’t know, it gives you invisibility while crouching,” they wrote. They added that the problem with this Medallion is that you can still be seen easily in the game, as Fortnite’s invisibility “isn’t even close to real invisibility.” Another reason is you’re unable to do “any speedy maneuvers” while crouching and that there’s a time limit on stealth. The worst of all is that, just like any other Medallion, your location’s radius is revealed on the map to other players when picking it up, defeating the overall purpose of being stealthy or invisible. Many other players in the comments agreed with this take on the Mysterio Medallion in Fortnite. “The funniest part is that Cap’s shield’s aim assist works when they’re invisible, so if you see them disappear, just throw the shield in their general direction, and 9/10 times it’ll hit them,” commented one user. “Yeah, I thought I’d be stealthy and sneak to a different bush while invisible, but then I got killed by someone from like 80 meters away,” said a different user. Some players even pointed out that you can still be seen with the Thermal Scope despite turning invisible with the Mysterio Medallion. The same thing also applies to Emma Frost’s Reveal Medallion, where you will still get marked even though you’re invisible which makes other Medallions a superior option overall.

  • Fortnite players crushed as Epic “gatekeeps” classic skins despite updating them – Dexerto

Fortnite players crushed as Epic “gatekeeps” classic skins despite updating them Epic GamesFortnite players have called out for Epic Games to bring back old Battle Passes after introducing brand-new LEGO Outfit styles for classic skins in LEGO Fortnite, with no way to get them. Fortnite’s old iconic skins have become increasingly rare as time goes on due to Epic holding tons of their original cosmetics under lock and key. If you were lucky to get them at the time or weren’t even playing Fortnite back then, such as new LEGO Fortnite players, the chance to ever get them has remained slim. One player rallied for Epic to introduce “Legacy Passes” to solve the issue, and the Fortnite community on Reddit instantly showed their support for the idea. The post featured an image of the Darth Vader skin, which hasn’t been made available since it was released years ago in Chapter 3 Season 3, next to its new LEGO Outfit style, which is rewarded to players who own the original skin. As ProdbyPyxlwhip put it, “Fomo doesn’t work when you literally can’t buy it anymore ever again ever,” with the image highlighting the point: “How do we explain to new players that to get Darth Vader in LEGO Fortnite, they should have bought a pass 3 years ago?” Many players flooded in to agree, “Epic relies on time-based exclusive items, I doubt they’ll ever release any sort of Legacy Pass till the game is on its last leg,” one of the top comments read. “I have Darth Vader and all Battle Passes since Chapter 2 Season 7, but I agree fomo is garbage. It’s absolute garbage. People who love gatekeeping skins are just pathetic,” a player replied. Another added: “I don’t even need them to be Passes. Just sell the items in the shop at normal shop prices.” Despite this, a player claimed: “I could probably see them releasing a White Darth Vader since a white LEGO Vader is releasing soon in a set.” Feedback was mixed on the White alternate version potentially arriving, while several called again for Halo Infinite’s Legacy Battle Pass feature to be introduced. “Think of how many people would buy the older Battle Passes if they were available like Halo’s model, ‘Oh I’m done with this season instead of being done with the game I can select one I missed and work on that’,” one more said. This feature has often crept up among calls in the community for various reasons. Many players have claimed that they were “too sick to play” during the Battle Pass period or various other reasons out of their control, and that Halo Infinite’s Battle Pass feature would be the “perfect” solution.

  • Fortnite players convinced viral silent TikTok teasing long-awaited emote – Dexerto

Fortnite players convinced viral silent TikTok teasing long-awaited emote Epic GamesFortnite Season OG players are presently deciphering a silent TikTok that has gone viral and teases the rumored arrival of a long-awaited emote. Although the video features a plethora of OG content, the following are the opinions of fans. Fortnite emotes have unquestionably influenced the culture of video games to become enjoyable. Real-world trends, viral videos, and well-known references frequently serve as inspiration for the dances and other actions featured in the game. Youthful generations are introduced to dance styles that originated outside the realm of video games through these well-known moves. Prominent emotes, including “Take the L,” “Orange Justice,” and “Floss,” have acquired an almost exclusive association with Fortnite. In a similar manner, “Chug Jug With You,” a popular Fortnite song composed by fans named Leviathan and CM Skits, has been one of the most well-known OG trends that followers frequently adapt into viral videos. Regular TikTok videos featuring Fortnite Season OG serve as a melancholy homage to the inception of the game. Players now have been convinced, to a certain extent, that the latest video released by the official Fortnite TikTok account is a tease for the inclusion of the Chug Jug With You song, either as a lobby track or emote. Fortnite players hyped for rumored Chug Jug With You emote tease in viral TikTok A video with the captions “Someone throw a nice track over this!” and “If only we had a good song for this video, any suggestions?” was recently published on the official Fortnite TikTok and Fortnite ANZ X accounts, respectively. A duo consumes a Chug Jug together to begin the video, followed by a Victory Royale and dancing on the disco floor. The camera then focuses on the player’s tally of eliminations, which was ten, before focusing away from the player atop Tomato Temple who has just wiped out their opponents at the POI. The subsequent sequence of images depicts the player reviving a teammate as they travel south toward Pleasant Park, with the marked location displayed on the map. As per longtime fans who are well-versed in the Chug Jug with You phenomenon, the reference was promptly recognized and the video’s music was appropriately edited by one to correspond. As a result, a number of fans began to speculate that the tune could be an emote or lobby track that will be available in the game in the near future. One such fan said, “Need it as a music pack or emote right now”. Another chimed in, “Fortnite about to get down. Chug chug with u emote coming?”. A third added, “Never in my life would I think Epic would reference f*****g chug jug with you”. While speculation surrounding the emote is still in the air, players are currently focused on the age-restricted cosmetics in Fortnite Creative and are constantly running an active commentary about it on social media with demands for refunds.

  • Fortnite players are convinced open-world RPG spinoff is coming after new Season 7 leaks – Dexerto

Fortnite players are convinced open-world RPG spinoff is coming after new Season 7 leaks Epic GamesFresh Fortnite Season 7 leaks have revealed new artwork for a mysterious playlist that has fans convinced an open-world mode is on the horizon. When Fortnite first launched, it did so with Save The World and nothing else. Before long, the Battle Royale component was set free and took the gaming industry by storm. Nowadays, it’s what the massively successful title is known for. But that could be set to change as recent leaks have indicated that something entirely new is in the works. First revealed through the Epic Games vs Apple lawsuit, Fortnite developers have been experimenting with the concept of an “open-world simulation sandbox mode”. This project aims to launch the smash hit “beyond” the confines of the battle royale genre, Fortnite leaker HYPEX claimed. Now, brand new artwork has slipped through the cracks, implying this open-world style mode could be coming sooner than later. So… What do we think this is? pic.twitter.com/wEz5Y9QHWz — iFireMonkey (@iFireMonkey) August 10, 2021 Currently labeled as a limited-time mode, Epic secretly updated the ‘Saturn_Test’ file in Fortnite’s code on August 10. Prominent Fortnite dataminer iFireMonkey quickly uncovered what this update was for. Brand new artwork for the mode appeared in Fortnite’s files. This artwork shows four characters standing together with an assortment of weapons in hand, seemingly ready to fight off an incoming attack. Peely is holding a mystical wand, Jonesy has a sword, Fishstick has a spear and a shield, while Cuddle Team Leader has a bow and arrow at the ready. There’s no telling for certain what they’re preparing for, though many believe this artwork is tied to Epic’s open-world project. Read More: When does Fortnite Season 8 start? – When asked what they think the artwork represents, “open-world” or “survival RPG” modes were the most common responses. “Probably why [patch] 17.40 has been tested 706 times,” one player suggested. We now have 2 teasers, we can see: – Possible new weapons? – Arrow in the back – A giant monkey in the background – Temple POIs/Landmarks in the backAll of these hint towards the open world game mode they talked about in the Apple lawsuit but we’ll have to wait and see.. pic.twitter.com/nh77y96vWC — HYPEX (@HYPEX) August 10, 2021 Since we only have artwork to go off for now, however, plenty of unique possibilities were also put forward. From a Clash of Clans crossover to a potential MOBA, we could be in store for something completely different. With more and more leaks slipping through the cracks, time will tell if the implied open-world project ever sees the light of day. Though it certainly appears Epic is gearing up for something big.

  • Fortnite players convinced they’ve found Megalo Don’s secret identity – Dexerto

Fortnite players convinced they’ve found Megalo Don’s secret identity DexertoFortnite players believe they have uncovered Megalo Don’s secret identity thanks to a Battle Pass skin from two years ago. Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 3 is centered around the wasteland and the Nitro that now powers all movement on the island. The Nitro was brought to the island by Megalo Don, this season’s villain figure, and tier 100 skin the Battle Pass. Shortly after his reveal, players began to wonder where they had seen that hairstyle before. Just a few weeks after Chapter 5 Season 3 was released on May 24, players finally think they’ve figured out who Megalo Don really is. Chapter 3 Season 2’s Gunnar bears a striking resemblance to Megalo Don. Gunnar also seemingly uses a form of Nitro Fists, which were introduced as part of Megalo Don’s kit. A similar version of the Nitro Fists can be seen being used by Gunnar in the trailer for the season. The hairstyle and pre-Nitro Fists have some members of the Fortnite community convinced that Megalo Don and Gunnar are actually the same person. But how is that possible when they came out two years apart? “In the story there are things called snapshots, which happen with the zero point and the loop. So Megalo Don might be a snapshot of Gunnar,” explained the original poster of a Reddit thread. The Fortnite storyline and lore can be confusing, especially with official Battle Pass collaborations with Marvel, Star Wars, and more. But even if fans feel Epic Games abandoned the Fortnite lore, there may be a chance for a lore revival with this “snapshot” of Gunnar in the new season. Outside of similarities between Megalo Don and Gunnar, Fortnite hasn’t confirmed that the two are the same or if they are somehow related to one another in the timeline.

Fortnite players convinced huge crossover is coming after Season OG Easter egg discovered Epic GamesFortnite players are convinced about a huge upcoming crossover after a Season OG Easter egg that they discovered. Here’s what it is. Fortnite Season OG was one of the most popular Battle Royale seasons of all time. The month-long upgrade drew back numerous players who had abandoned Epic Games’ title owing to boring material and a lack of live events. The return of the Chapter 1 island triggered a wave of nostalgia among multiple gamers, breaking the all-time player and Twitch viewing records for Fortnite Battle Royale. Due to the season’s success, Epic stated that Fortnite OG will return in 2024, leaving players guessing about the next big update, which would allow them to time-travel back into the past. As players wait for the new Fortnite season, numerous have discovered a key Easter egg from Season OG that reveals “something big” that is slated to arrive shortly in the game. Here’s what the Easter egg says and how the players responded to it. Fortnite players excited for May 4th update teased in Season OG Victory umbrella Fortnite Season OG’s Victory Umbrella featured two dates, May 4th, 2024, and June 8th, 2068. While the latter seems quite far-fetched and is a hint to a futuristic Fortnite season, the May 4th date is just a few months away. According to several leaks, the Avatar collab mini pass is rumored to end on May 3rd, 2024. Additionally, leakers speculate that May 4th is celebrated annually as Star Wars Day. Hence with all the speculations pointing towards a significant update, players are excited for something big to hit the game soon. One such player said, “What if May 4th is the return of Fortnite OG but as a game mode?” Another chimed in, “Wait imagine season 2 is short and season 3 is a Star Wars season beginning on May 4th.” A third user commented, “It looks like Doctor Who could come out on May 4th and that is about time travel so could it be linked to that collaboration?” A fourth one replied, “Wanna bet that May 4th is when the Disney mode comes out.” While the community is buzzing with excitement, many have their bets placed on the return of Fortnite OG that players have been waiting for for quite some time.

  • Fortnite players are convinced Epic will secretly drop new Chapter 3 map next month – Dexerto

Fortnite players are convinced Epic will secretly drop new Chapter 3 map next month Epic GamesFortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 is ending soon, but instead of being followed by Season 9, some players are convinced Epic Games is going to drop Chapter 3 instead, along with a new map. Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 is expected to end on December 5, 2021, which means fans have already been looking forward to what lies ahead in Season 9. But some evidence suggests that Chapter 3 could be coming instead. Let’s take a look at everything that has surfaced on the internet so far, including rumors of a new map and more. Of course, a lot of it is speculative. So, take it with a grain of salt. However, the signs are promising. Ako, a popular Fortnite lore theorist, was one of the first to ignite the theory. The first thing Ako pointed out was that the Cube Queen, who was added to the game in the Fortnitemares update, has “ended countless realities.” She wields staff named the “Reality Render,” and its description says: “This staff has ended countless realities. Soon, the island will join them.” Her Cubic Vortex back bling also says: “Time is running out for you.” Another thing Ako cites as evidence is the new Page-Turner emote, which includes a peculiar description saying, “Just a second, I’m almost at the end of the chapter.” There are several other hints included in the tweet, too. Ako isn’t the only one who has contributed to the theory. HYPEX, who is one of the most reliable leakers in the scene, said they thought it was strange that Donald Mustard, the Chief Creative Officer at Epic Games, has never “name-dropped” Season 9. He shared a screenshot of Mustard referring to the next two seasons without specifically calling them Season 9 and Season 10. The last sentence also alludes to something big happening soon too. “There’s no way this wording is random,” said HYPEX, adding more fuel to the fire. Donald never name dropped Season 9 & 10, he just says Season 7 and “”the two after it””. And then there’s that last sentence.. There’s no way this wording is random lol pic.twitter.com/4V14rk2S24 — HYPEX (@HYPEX) October 31, 2021 HYPEX also spotted that the black hole that engulfed the island at the conclusion of Chapter 1 has re-emerged in the files. He thinks it could be further evidence that Chapter 3 could be around the corner, and he’s not alone. “The Blackhole has been updated again yesterday,” he said. “They added back the hotfix that makes the game load you directly into the Blackhole. “So many people are speculating that next Season is Chapter 3 due to these hints. Do y’all think it’s really gonna happen?” The Blackhole has been updated again yesterday, they added back the hotfix that makes the game load you directly into the Blackhole. And so many people are speculating that next Season is Chapter 3 due to these hints, do y’all thing it’s really gonna happen? 👀 pic.twitter.com/YbobiRvr8d — HYPEX (@HYPEX) October 27, 2021 Another leaker, iFireMonkey, also alluded to the fact that it’s the perfect time for Fortnite to get a new chapter. Chapter 1 lasted 718 days, spanning ten seasons. Chapter 2 has only had eight seasons. However, they ran for much longer. It works out to be around 778 days at the end of Season 8, which could mean Chapter 3 is coming. Chapter 2 Season 8 is currently set to last a total of 83 days. — iFireMonkey (@iFireMonkey) October 28, 2021 That just about sums up all the evidence that has been discovered so far. Nothing has been confirmed yet. However, the evidence is compelling, and a good chunk of the player-base is convinced Chapter 3 is coming. We’ll have to wait and see whether it all comes to fruition. But in the meantime, there’s still at least another month or so of Season 8 to enjoy.

  • Fortnite players convinced devs trolled them with Jenna Ortega dance bait – Dexerto

Fortnite players convinced devs trolled them with Jenna Ortega dance bait Epic Games / NetflixFortnite players are convinced Epic Games baited them with the new Go With the Flow Emote added to the Item Shop after leakers had believed it was going to be Jenna Ortega’s viral Wednesday dance. Fortnite’s Item Shop and Battle Pass is often being constantly refilled and replaced with brand-new skins and cosmetics for players to access. Over the years, the game has become widely known for its various crossovers and collaborations with various pop culture franchises. This has included anything from Eminem to Marvel, to this season’s Solid Snake, Family Guy, and TMNT collabs. One crossover that has been highly demanded by the community is a collab with hit Netflix show Wednesday. However, despite leakers seemingly discovering that Jenna Ortega’s viral dance was finally coming to Fortnite in the form of an Emote, once it landed in the Item Shop, players soon realized it was completely unrelated. Fortnite players disappointed after Epic trolls with new Emote Various data miners had continued to uncover a whole heap of new information and files found in the build-up to the v28.20 patch and upcoming TMNT event. One of which being an unnamed Emote. Trusted leaker HYPEX revealed: “Jenna Ortega seems to be getting a Fortnite Emote based on her dance in Wednesday!” Yet when the update finally dropped on February 7, 2024, it was found that the Go With the Flow Emote had nothing to do with Wednesday and the dance, as HYPEX replied to the post: “nvm….” Waves of players flooded the comments section to express their disappointment: “They knew what they were doing with that pose…” As another added: “classic Fortnite trolling the community.” Many called it a “let down” and echoed that they would have purchased the Emote: “Damn I was about to cop this in a heartbeat but nvm.” With Epic Games having a history of collaborating with popular Netflix shows, such as Stranger Things, and Wednesday already being greenlit for Season 2, then it is not out of the range of possibility. However, Epic have not provided any suggestion or information so far that would point towards a collab in the future.

  • Fortnite players convinced DC collabs are “doomed” after Marvel takes over Chapter 5 Season 4 – Dexerto

Fortnite players convinced DC collabs are “doomed” after Marvel takes over Chapter 5 Season 4 Epic GamesEpic Games announced a new roster of Marvel skins for Fortnite’s Absolute Doom season, leaving DC fans feeling neglected after years without a collab. Fortnite has collaborated with DC Comics countless times over its history, proving to be the third biggest collaborator with 24 skins. Despite this, DC fans haven’t received a brand-new skin in the Battle Royale since Chapter 3 Season 3 when Black Adam was released on October 21, 2022. As players have been gearing up for Chapter 5 Season 4’s Marvel takeover, one DC Fortnite fan, Maximum_Lake_6367 has posed the question: “Whatever happened to the DC skins?” “They are doomed!” A player simply replied. “Makes me sad. I finally grinded Battles Passes to save up for a Batman skin and it may never come now,” one added. The topic of discussion among players and DC fans soon turned to the reasons why and specifically who was to blame for the lack of DC skins in Fortnite. Some highlighted that Disney’s ownership of Marvel and Epic Games was the key factor. “Disney owns it now so the likelihood they’ll sponsor DC is low,” as one said, However, the majority of comments put the blame on Warner Bros, who owns DC Comics. Most responses echoed: “Warner Bros is burning down right now.” “Warner brothers is making bad choices that include not making more collabs with Fortnite, that means Epic can’t sell them anymore,” a fan claimed. Another added: “Warner Bros went to s**t and also Epic signed a billion-dollar deal with their primary competitor. DC in Fortnite might actually be dead.” Overall, it has been made unclear why DC crossovers have ground to a halt, or when Fortnite players can expect another collaboration. But, Disney has made further announcements regarding their involvement with Fortnite during their D23 event, meanwhile Epic and DC have not made any announcements or even hinted at a future DC collab. We have provided a full list of every Marvel skin coming to Fortnite when Chapter 5 Season 4 kicks off on August 16, as well as how you can get your hands on the Doctor Doom skin in Fortnite.

  • Fortnite players convinced devs have abandoned the game’s lore – Dexerto

Fortnite players convinced devs have abandoned the game’s lore Epic GamesSome players couldn’t help but point out that Fortnite’s lore feels like it has been lacking since a certain chapter. For some players, a part of what makes Fortnite interesting is getting invested in the game’s lore. Spanning from the OG days, the game featured iconic characters such as OG Midas and Paradigm, which now have become one of the highly requested skins to return as they’re a part of the lore. Fast forward to the current chapter; the lore now revolves around Peely, who has been kidnapped by the Society. However, despite the current chapter having new characters joining the game and getting involved, some players couldn’t help but feel like the game’s lore is starting to feel repetitive. One user pointed out in a Reddit thread that since Chapter 4, the game’s lore has been following a similar pattern. It starts with the villain being revealed and doing nothing wrong, and then either Jonesy or a “niche NPC” comes to defeat the villain with a “hidden dialogue.” Then, the villain disappears into thin air along with the niche hero. Ultimately, there’s a “big explosion” and “Jonesy survives.” Some players agreed with the OP in the comments, claiming they felt the same way, while others argued that the lore is unimportant. One person is certain that this is the case, explaining that “The ‘lore’ of the current season is: Peely is kidnapped offscreen. Peely is rescued offscreen. Text: ‘We did it! We rescued Peely! Thanks!’” Another user couldn’t help but poke fun at OP’s take by writing, “Peely got kidnapped -> TMNT showed up and destroyed some banners -> Peely got rescued. Wdym? Perfect lore.” Meanwhile, some players were convinced that it was due to Epic not “feeling like paying voice actors or writers.” Aside from that, some argue that the game’s lore is unnecessary. “Lmao ‘lore’. It’s a BR. Just enjoy the gameplay, and you don’t gotta worry about lore. It’s totally OK to be a lore nerd in games and movies and stuff, but I really just don’t think that’s one of their (Epic) top priorities,” they said. “To me, it never had one; I play the game because I like it,” one chimed in. Some players are hopeful that given the next season is fast approaching, there will be “some actual lore” soon.

  • Fortnite players convinced 25.20 update has secret Marvel easter egg – Dexerto

Fortnite players convinced 25.20 update has secret Marvel easter egg Epic GamesThe most recent Fortnite patch 25.20, has added new content and several items to Chapter 4 Season 3. However, players have discovered an Easter egg on the island and believe it points to a possible Marvel crossover similar to Chapter 2. Fortnite is well-known for its collaborations with pop culture franchises, films, and anime. Over the years, a variety of characters such as Goku, John Wick, and Batman, have been added to the game as cosmetic outfits, and Epic Games has provided players with thrilling gameplay content related to these crossovers. However, one of the most prominent crossovers in Fortnite occurred in Chapter 2 Season 4 when Marvel characters brought the Nexus War. It became the pinnacle of collaborations for the game as players donned their favorite superhero’s skin and used their powers to win the Victory Royale. Now that Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 has a plethora of crossovers, the recent 25.20 patch’s Easter egg discovery has players pondering if the game will receive another Marvel collaboration. Fortnite players discover Marvel easter egg on Chapter 4 Island A Fortnite user called Sentinel Central posted an image on X with a couple of folders from Stark Industries lying on a desk in the game. According to the user, these files were found near Creaky Compound and could be a “reused asset” with the 25.20 patch that was deployed recently. Yet, when players saw the image, their speculations for a future crossover ran wild as they started visiting the POI to get a glimpse of the Marvel Easter egg. One such fan commented, “Well technically Galactus isn’t dead, so he might be after the Zero Point again and the Avengers are back maybe?” Another one chimed in, “Idk I hope it’s more comics, also it could be a new Iron Man skin, or a new collab season.” A third said, “Add War Machine to the game already, please. The fact that after so much time Rhodey is still missing is a crime.” While the appearance of Stark Industries files could be the result of a bug while attempting to add Dr. Slone-related assets to the Island, players still hope for another crossover-themed season and the chance to relive the Marvel Nexus War moments.

  • Fortnite players confused as Chapter 5 Season 2 live event chest prematurely opens – Dexerto

Fortnite players confused as Chapter 5 Season 2 live event chest prematurely opens Epic GamesThe Hand mini-event is live in Fortnite, getting players ready for Chapter 5 Season 2. However, it seems the event is confusing many with reports of it prematurely opening for some players. Chapter 5 Season 2 of Fortnite is nearly upon us, and to hype players up, a new mini-event is taking place. During the event, a giant hand holding what appears to be Pandora’s Box will smash out of the ground by Ruined Reels. After some confusion among the community regarding the event’s debut, it finally happened as the leaks implied it would. Players landing by Ruined Reels will see the hand, and they can shoot the chains to attempt to open Pandora’s Box to initiate the big reveal. However, it seems the event is either bugged, or the steps needed to start the reveal are set way too high, as some players seemingly can’t open the chest, but others can. Fortnite players share event successes amidst community confusion As mentioned, the goal of the event is to break the chains around the chest, which will then free the chest to open and reveal what comes next. However, players loading into the event have reported damage can’t be dealt to it. To clarify, damage numbers are shown, but no damage is actually dealt. Many think this is a community event and that Epic Games set the chains’ HP to around 50 billion. Once the community hits that collectively, then the reveal will happen. However, in response to community speculation, a few players have shared that the chest opened in their playthrough. What happens next is a fiery vortex appears, although we’re unsure of what the vortex holds. uhh i have a question about the event — Xrayparker (@xrayparker) March 2, 2024 (my friend broke it) pic.twitter.com/kuI3SpA8Wa Since the event just started, Epic Games hasn’t said anything other than sharing that players should shoot at it. We’ll keep you posted as more information comes to light. For now, keep on shooting away at the chains – they’ll have to break at some point.

  • Fortnite players confused by ‘horrible’ rank distribution – Dexerto

Fortnite players confused by ‘horrible’ rank distribution FortniteFortnite players are baffled by the high number of Elite and Champion ranked players compared to Zero Build. Fortnite began appealing to a different group of competitive players when they introduced Zero Build. This mode would force players to rely on fighting skill alone and know how quickly they could build cover. There are 17 ranks that can be reached in Fortnite. It starts at Bronze 2 and builds up to ‘Unreal’ which is the highest rank that can be achieved in either mode. With Zero Build came the introduction of ranked play for both modes. Players could decide if they wanted to rank up with or without builds, but the ranking would be separate for each. Fortnite players call out campers in build ranked In a Reddit thread posted to the official Fortnite page, one user took a screenshot of the current rank distribution to discuss it. The information was from Fortnite Tracker, which gives a rough idea of the current distribution. There is an even distribution of players ranging from Bronze to Diamond, but the majority of players are ranked within the highest three – Elite, Champion and Unreal. “It’s easier to camp and avoid fights in builds and get consistent placement points,” said one commenter. “You just farm everything you need in the most remote POI, then camp in a box until late game.” Meanwhile Zero Build has a much different rank distribution, with less than 4% of the player base ranked within the top three categories. Those underneath the Reddit page suggested that campers were not the only reason to blame for the lack of balance. “Because it’s not a real ranked mode,” said another user. “I came 33rd with 1 kill in Diamond 3 earlier and was promoted to Elite with about 25% progress towards Champion. Real ranked modes punish you for not performing. This doesn’t. It’s just a climb to the top. I feel like Epic is scared that if people aren’t constantly rewarded, they won’t play.” Fortnite Season OG ends on December 2, which closes Chapter 4 of the game and welcomes in Chapter 5. This means ranks could be adjusted with the start of the new chapter. However, Epic Games has not made any official statement on the current ranked distribution imbalance.

  • Fortnite players confused as Chapter 5 Season 2 leaves out iconic weapon type – Dexerto

Fortnite players confused as Chapter 5 Season 2 leaves out iconic weapon type FortniteFortnite may have missed out on a golden opportunity to bring back bows to fit the mythology theme of Chapter 5 Season 2. The most recent season of Fortnite has sparked widespread discussion, ranging from criticism of the Aphrodite skin to the excitement surrounding the crossover with The Legend of Korra. However, the skins aren’t the sole focus of this season’s discussions. The community has been actively debating the rotation of weapons. A Reddit thread recently proposed the idea of reintroducing bows from the vault and incorporating them into the meta. Bows were first introduced during Fortnite’s Chapter 2 Season 6 and were beloved by the fanbase. “These were really fun to get shots with.” said one commenter. “Bows are more rewarding in my opinion though, I’d like them to experiment with bows again,” agreed another user. Not only were bows a significant addition to the meta upon their release, but players also feel that Fortnite deviated from its mythology theme by excluding them entirely. One of the latest loading screen additions from Legend of Korra even shows Artemis with a bow without one being useable. “Epic’s planning the Greek mythology season like: Yes yes, Artemis the goddess of hunt and wildlife always represented in art and sculptures with her LONG SCOPED SNIPER RIFLE.” pointed out another commenter. When bows were introduced during the Primal season, there were four different versions available, each with its unique characteristics. Additionally, they served as an additional means of travel for players. Fortnite has focused more on better travel methods with Season 2 thanks to Cerberus dashes and Zeus’ medallion giving extra movement and jump speed. This could be one of the factors as to why the bows weren’t added.

  • Fortnite players confess the most humiliating ways they have died in-game – Dexerto

Fortnite players confess the most humiliating ways they have died in-game Epic GamesFortnite players are turning in their confessions on social media about the most humiliating ways they have died in the game this season. Here’s what they said. Battle Royale players in Fortnite frequently employ tactical strategies to achieve the desired Victory Royale. Everyone is trying to become a sweaty player, whether it’s by establishing a strong position or by manipulating the meta to their favor. Sometimes their plans work, and they succeed, but other times they fail, and they die in the most surprising ways imaginable. In the past month, Chapter 5 Season 1 has arrived, and players are being eliminated in the most humiliating manner imaginable. This is majorly due to the significant changes in the loot pool and the introduction of weapon mods. Players are now embarrassingly confessing the most humiliating ways they were killed by an opponent in-game, and some of these incidents are hilarious. Here’s a selection of the most entertaining ones, along with players’ responses to them. Fortnite players confess most humiliating eliminations in Chapter 5 Season 1 A Reddit user named hippopalace asked others about the most humiliating thing that has happened to them in Fortnite. To start the conversation, they confessed about theirs and said, “Getting killed right off spawn when I’m carrying a crown. Getting a great positional and tactical drop on someone, but their aim is so much better & they kill me (and emote on me, deservedly). Getting to the final 1v1 and dying to storm or a fall.” Another user chimed in, “Killing yourself with clingers. Happens way more often than I would like to admit.” A third added, “Train: Approaching, has another team on it. Me, big-brained: Oh I know I’ll toss these clingers into the train as it passes by and finish them off when I hop onto the back cart. Clingers: lmao what if I stuck to the side of the train instead and rained hell upon you.” A fourth user commented, “I’ve accidentally tossed a med kit at people at close range. It’s embarrassing.” A fifth one replied, “Landing at the balcony at Rebel’s Roost to hire the NPC but you don’t have enough gold and someone else drops there and hires them and then they both vaporize you.” A sixth user wrote, “Accidentally Emoting in the middle of a fight and dying because of it.” Finally, a seventh one said, “I captured the flag on the floating loot island, all my guns were legendary. The storm was coming, so I very calmly ran to the jump pad and… I missed it, I missed the jump and fell off the island.” While there are various ways to die in Fortnite, only a handful of players know the right way to win, which is why we recommend you check out our guide on how to claim a Victory Royale in the game right here.

  • Fortnite players conflicted with weapon mods staying in the game – Dexerto

Fortnite players conflicted with weapon mods staying in the game Epic GamesFortnite players are debating whether adding weapon mods was a good decision regarding unvaulting weapons. Chapter 5 took Fortnite differently by adding Medallions, new movement mechanics, and weapon modifications. Instead of choosing from pre-determined weapons, players can add up to five additional attachments. Weapon mods were not the only new content added to Fortnite with the new season, with Epic Games expanding Fortnite’s reach by releasing three game modes to appeal to a wider audience. Now that new weapons can be modified via upgrade benches scattered across the map, players are beginning to wonder if older weapons will ever return to the game. Fortnite weapon mods could eliminate vaulted weapons A Twitter/X user named Ako started discussing vaulted weapons in the new meta. Since older weapons did not have modification slots, the likelihood of them being readded is unknown. “Weapon Mods have one BIG drawback,” said Ako. “There’s practically no reason for Unvaults anymore.” Some of the commenters were fine with the idea of not having old weapons return. Others took the opportunity to voice their disdain for the concept of weapon mods in Fortnite by saying it makes the guns feel ‘inconsistent.’ “Honestly, good,” said one user. “Sure, seeing unvaulting weapons was cool but the fact we have weapons mods now can open to new cool weapons with mods. Unique weapons instead of having back some old weapons.” Since Chapter 5, no weapons have been brought back from the vault, except for the Grappler, which was unvaulted to replace the Icy Grappler during the Winterfest event. Fortnite hasn’t hinted at the idea of weapons returning during the first season. However, this could change as more updates come in future months.

  • Fortnite player’s concept for “The Safe” would be an incredible change to Battle Royale – Dexerto

Fortnite player’s concept for “The Safe” would be an incredible change to Battle Royale Reddit is a great place to find fan-made content for Fortnite Battle Royale and one concept, called “The Safe” has been receiving some position attention. Created by Reddit user ‘ApeLandscape,’ The Safe is a concept that proposes safes be added to the Fortnite map, spawning randomly in place of some chests. Locked inside the safe would be a weapon guaranteed to be of Legendary rarity (gold) and it would take exactly 30 seconds for a player to crack the safe alone and retrieve the weapon. The process of opening the safe would be slightly expedited if it’s done as a team; the more teammates try to crack it together, the faster it opens. Here are all of the weapons that have Legendary variants currently in Fortnite: Suppressed AR, Thermal Scoped AR, Heavy AR, SCAR, Burst AR, Minigun, Compact SMG, Hand Cannon, Heavy Shotgun, Pump Shotgun, Heavy Sniper Rifle, Suppressed Sniper Rifle, Rocket Launcher, Grenade Launcher, or Quad Launcher. This concept of The Safe is rather interesting because, at first glance, some may think that it would play a very similar role to that of the Vending Machines. However, it would differ in that the players will not know exactly what is being encased inside, and instead of trading in material resources to obtain the contents they have to expend valuable time to crack it. The fact that not every Legendary weapon would be worth spending that kind of time makes it a risk pretty much anytime a player spends 30 seconds trying to access it, which seems to make the concept a lot more balanced. Adding safes in Fortnite would also introduce a new wave of tactical play in terms of players possibly using them as bait to lure others into an ambush. Since they take so long to open, players will want to be absolutely sure that they have a clear area to work in and will not be sniped at or rushed by enemy players. Although the creator of the concept never mentions it, it may also be smart to add a progress bar to the safe as it’s being opened, that way players will know how much more they need to go before it’s cracked. If a player who is in the process of opening the safe leaves it to fend off enemies, the progress bar could slowly retract until the player gets back to work on it, which would not only make the safe more balanced, it would also prevent enemies from waiting until its almost open before ambushing the player and stealing the fruit of their hard work.

  • Fortnite players condemned for mocking death of 9-year-old Astroworld victim – Dexerto

Fortnite players condemned for mocking death of 9-year-old Astroworld victim Epic GamesFortnite Battle Royale players have been condemned after comments mocking the death of the youngest victim killed at the Astroworld festival went viral on TikTok. Travis Scott’s Astroworld festival event in Houston, Texas ended in tragedy on November 5, as a crowd surge crushed and killed 10 people. Following the event, an investigation was triggered into the safety procedures of security working on-site and Scott himself is reportedly being sued for over $750 million. One of those was a nine-year-old boy called Ezra Blount, who passed away at the Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, a family lawyer confirmed on November 15. The child was placed in a medically induced coma after suffering serious injuries. As people around the world mourned all 10 who paid the ultimate price during the event, insensitive comments have surfaced on social media with some people making Fortnite-related jokes in relation to Ezra’s death. Fortnite players mock Astroworld victim In a TikTok clip posted by Vlone, which has surpassed over 6.2 million views at the time of writing, many remarks were made. These included “bro became a skull trooper,” which is a skin in Fortnite featuring a skeleton face, as well as “Lil bro got Boogie Bombed.” Another reads: “Bro got lost in the storm.” Watch the TikTok video here if embed below doesn’t load. The TikTok users involved The usernames behind each of these replies were montyyyy_y, uzisiins, and thizzin_83. Just like so many other “troll” posts made on social media, each of the accounts do not have a clear name attached to them, allowing them to hide – at least publicly – behind somewhat anonymous profiles. Thousands of comments, in reply to Vlone’s video, have criticized the reactions of those three users. However, those are just examples of what is a larger pool of Fortnite troll replies. Others said: “At least bro got top 9,” and “Bro forgot to pop a med kit.” A number of TikTok users have moved to condemn the comments. One posted: “This is messed up.” Another said: “These comments are dark humor it’s kids trying to act cool by making jokes outta those who lost their lives.” “This comment section isn’t it, for real. Bro was a kid,” a user replied. “These comments are evil.” In April 2020, Travis Scott hosted his own Astronomical festival in Epic Games’ popular battle royale game, meaning the crossover of fans between the artist and video game developer is stronger than many others in the industry. Since the Astroworld disaster, the game’s developers have removed Travis content in-game. Whether the Epic Games team or Travis Scott himself will move to castigate those behind such comments remains to be seen.

  • Fortnite players complain Fortnitemares 2023 isn’t “Halloween” enough – Dexerto

Fortnite players complain Fortnitemares 2023 isn’t “Halloween” enough Epic GamesFortnitemares returned in 2023 with a bunch of spooky-themed content in Fortnite, however, some players have slammed the event for the lack of a Halloween theme. Fortnite’s yearly Halloween update Fortnitemares has typically been a fan-favorite event that has been widely loved. This year’s update featured a plethora of returning and new additions in the form of spooky-themed quests, cosmetics, rewards, LTMs, UI revamp, and more. Certain classics were unvaulted, such as Candies, Witch Broom, and the iconic Pumpkin Launcher. Exciting new weapons such as the Wood Stake Shotgun and Thorne’s Vampiric Blade were also added, as well as some major franchise collaborations were announced. These involve cosmetic sets featuring Michael Myers, Alan Wake, and Jack Skellington. Although, this wasn’t enough to please some fans who have called out the event for not being “Halloween” enough. Players criticize lack of Halloween theme in Fortnitemares 2023 Many players have blasted the event on socials for the lack of a Halloween theme in relation to decorations and other aspects of classic Fortnitemares that weren’t included this year. One in particular posted to Reddit titled: “I’m getting sick of this.” Although they began complimenting the skins, rewards, and mythic items by saying they are “better than last year,” still they were not enough to impress them. “Aside from the bus, there is nothing remotely Halloween-themed on the map. No eclipse. No decorations except for tiny buckets of candy. No jumpscare zones. Nothing. I don’t understand why they can’t decorate at the very least,” the player went on to explain. Several fans agreed reflecting similar views as they pointed towards the lack of various features and decorations that were previously loved by the community, yet had not returned. “It just ain’t Fortnitemares without the Halloween decorations and the slight fog,” a player commented. Another added: “I miss the store from Retail Row and all the decorated houses at Pleasant Park and other POIs. I miss Haunted Hills.” With still weeks to go before Halloween arrives and the Fortnitemares event ending, players aim to wait and see whether Epic Games will add these afore-mentioned features to the game or not.

  • Fortnite players claim weapon mods only made the game worse – Dexerto

Fortnite players claim weapon mods only made the game worse Epic GamesFortnite players want to see hitscan return to the game, but that may not be possible in Chapter 5 thanks to weapon mods. Players are hoping for the return of hitscan weapons, which would allow bullets to hit their target directly instead of projectiles that cater toward more precise aiming. However, with the introduction of weapon mods, hitscan is no longer effective. Although Fortnite tried to bring back hitscan through different weapons, like Twin-Mag AR and the MK7, it showed that weapon mods with hitscan are not currently viable in the meta. But that does not stop players from chasing the elusive dream of having the mechanic back in the game. “I feel like projectile should only be for snipers. The way Fortnite’s gunplay is doesn’t fit for it all to be projectile. Bloom when not having a scope, is horrible, especially when you’re fighting at a distance. Maybe it’s just me, considering I’ve been used to Fortnite for years, but right now, it feels like Warzone but worse.” said one Reddit user. Another player pointed out that Fortnite seems to change the damage systems each season, which could mean another chance for hitscan in future seasons. Others within the Reddit thread agreed with the sentiment that hitscan was better than the current weapon mod situation. Some even went as far as to say that the current weapon mod meta “sucks” with hope for change in the future. “Weapon modding sucks anyways. If rng for purple and gold items were low you also have to get lucky for a good scope (or even a scope). Getting a thermal or no scope is just something I have to drop, which sucks, tbh. Modding exists, but holy, is it hard to push something where I can mod.” stated another user. It’s clear that the Fortnite community is passionate about the current weapon modding system and its effect on gameplay. However, no rumored changes are coming that would bring back the old hitscan system.

  • Fortnite players complain about snipers being “way too powerful” in Chapter 5 – Dexerto

Fortnite players complain about snipers being “way too powerful” in Chapter 5 Epic GamesFortnite players are not happy with how good snipers are in Chapter 5, making countless threads and videos voicing their frustrations. Fortnite‘s Chapter 5, Season 1 has been live for a little a month, shattering records, introducing three new modes, and adding zany crossovers. In the battle royale portion of the game, a new weapon mod system and movement mechanics headline the wave of new changes. Not every new feature has been well-received by players, such as the maligned Ballistic Shield. That said, it’s the sniper rifles that have been an overwhelming topic of ire, with Fortnite players going mad at how good they’ve become. Fortnite player voices widespread sniper outrage To be fair, sniper rifles always present a balancing issue in gaming. Warzone is going through its fair share of issues, ironically, with sniper rifles being one of them. This season of Fortnite seemingly has created a monster with sniper rifles for many reasons. The weapon mod system lets players deck out their snipers in the most unfair way possible by removing the scope, for example. They can also one-shot you, and while it’s technically “realistic,” blending realism into a video game is a fine line. If you play Zero Build, you may as well leave the lobby if you see a sniper. Check the game’s subreddit, and you’ll see numerous posts around sniper nerfs in Fortnite. Fortnite player Micawavetv shared their Chapter 5 experience, and as expected, it’s a small sniping montage. The catch? It’s not their sniping, it’s the enemies sniping him. “Sniping is too easy,” Micawavetv said, as he showed 90 seconds of himself getting headshot sniped or immediately downed. In fairness, Micawave’s clips are him in the open challenging players, which plenty of the replies to his clip pointed out. On the other hand, he perfectly captures the issue with snipers in Fortnite’s Chapter 5, as snipers have become oppressive. One comment pointed out another alarming issue that’s gone under the radar: “If you are getting absolutely beamed, there should be an aim penalty.” This season seems to have missed the mark on suppression mechanics entirely. It’ll be interesting to see how Epic Games handles the sniper conundrum in Fortnite. Be sure to stick with Dexerto for any changes that may come in the future.

  • Fortnite players claim this forgotten Chapter 5 weapon is “best ever” – Dexerto

Fortnite players claim this forgotten Chapter 5 weapon is “best ever” FortniteSome Fortnite players claimed that the Ranger is actually the best Pistol to ever be introduced to the Battle Royale. There have been many popular and powerful weapons added to Fortnite since its release many years ago, like the Golden Scar or the Pump Shotgun (which brought on a “Double Pump” meta). However, there are also some lesser-known weapons that some players think have slipped under the radar that are actually immensely OP. The Ranger Pistol was added at the start of Chapter 5 and was unique amongst other pistols thanks to its extremely fast TTK and ability to have mods on it, making it feel like an SMG at times. Players have now started to realize that the Ranger pistol might be the most powerful gun to ever be added to Fortnite. Fortnite players realize crazy Ranger Pistol potential One Fortnite player generated major discussion in the community after they released a post with a bold claim: “This [the Ranger Pistol] is the best pistol Fortnite has ever put out. Fight me,” they said. “I know that Ar’s or even the Burst Smg is a lot more reliable but for me, the Pistol just has the best control and feels really good to use,” they continued. Other Fortnite fans also agreed that the pistol, introduced in Chapter 5 Season 1, was the best no-frills attached gun in its archetype: “The ranger pistol is easily one of the best/the best traditional pistols we have ever seen”. However, while the post generated a lot of support and backing for its claim, others had their own opinions on the best pistol to ever be in the game. “In my opinion and experience the tactical pistol is the best. Was a good assault rifle replacement. I’m not sure if the current pistol is as good as that. Close, but not the same,” said one person. “The revolver is the most underrated weapon of all time. If C3S3 didn’t have the striker burst, I honestly might have run the revolver as my AR for that season,” claimed another. Despite their not being a wholly unanimous decision on what the best pistol in the game has been, the constant variety in the archetype that Epic Games has offered over the years ensures that players never get bored and the Fortnite gun meta never gets stale.

  • Fortnite players claim patch 28.10 has massive aim assist buffs – Dexerto

Fortnite players claim patch 28.10 has massive aim assist buffs Epic GamesPatch 28.10 brought a lot of changes to Fortnite, reportedly also buffing aim assist by a whopping 20%. Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 significantly changed the way the game was played, with new modes and content to explore. The battle royale mode saw some of the biggest additions, with a new map and implementations like the weapon mod system providing new experiences for players. It’s been a little over a month since the season started, and while various hotfixes have come through, there have been many issues that needed addressing. Patch 28.10 provided solutions to said problems with a blanket of fixes and even more content. However, it seems the latest patch might’ve caused a bigger issue, and it involves a massive buff to aim assist. Patch 28.10 reportedly buffs aim assist by 20% The reports of an aim assist buff started when Twitter/X user GabeCFN shared a look into the game files, stating aim assist saw a massive buff with the new update. This led to a lot of skepticism, and rightfully so. After tweeting out the game files, GabeCFN shared takes from other Fortnite players discussing the changes. Fortnite creator UpshallGames says hip-fire aim assist has been buffed and that aim down sight aim assist has been massively buffed as well. As you can imagine, aim assist isn’t well-liked, with players clamoring for changes, no matter what game is being discussed. No official statement has come out regarding whether these claims are true or not. Time will tell, but hopefully, Epic Games will speak up sooner rather than later on the state of aim assist in Fortnite.

  • Fortnite players claim smurfs are gaming the victory crown system – Dexerto

Fortnite players claim smurfs are gaming the victory crown system FortniteFortnite players suspect smurfing is inflating victory crowns in easy lobbies, stirring frustration and debate within the community. Fortnite uses a Skill-Based Matchmaking system designed to create balanced and competitive matches. This system aims to pair players of similar skill levels in modes such as Solos, Duos, Trios, and Squads. Whether you’re playing Zero Build, Battle Royale, or Reload, the goal is to win. Winning a match earns you a Victory Crown, which you can show off with the Victory Crown emote. If you have no Victory Crowns for the season, the number displayed on a pillow will reflect that. Over on Reddit, some players voiced concerns about others exploiting the matchmaking system to boost their crown counts. Reports suggested that players are manipulating the system through smurfing. One player shared their experience, saying, “In my first match of the season, I was put up against someone who had 219 victory crowns. After eliminating me, they showed off their crowns with the Donkey Laugh and Take the L emotes.” Another player explained why this happened, “Players smurf and/or manipulate matchmaking to get easy lobbies.” They explained that this can be done by creating a secondary account and intentionally performing badly to land in less challenging lobbies, or by putting a low-stat alt account in their party to play beneath their actual skill level. With many Fortnite players already frustrated at the stale state of the game, dealing with constant smurfs will only add to player angst. The community has also derided the introduction of the Cybertruck, meming the durability of its windows. Fortnite’s Chapter 5 Season 3 is nearing its mid-August end, bringing a close to a vehicle meta that even Ninja criticized as being “for losers.”

  • Fortnite players claim one simple feature would drastically improve cosmetics – Dexerto

Fortnite players claim one simple feature would drastically improve cosmetics FortniteFortnite players are calling for a simple customization feature to make back blings and other accessories fit skins better. Fortnite dishes out a ton of cosmetics in the Item Shop, from skins to backblings and beyond. More often than not, though, these backblings don’t stick properly to skins, even when they come in the same bundle. This leads to floating cosmetics that detract from the game’s visual appeal. A Fortnite player voiced their frustration on Reddit about Blair and her bundle after noticing the backpack and skin featured in Fortnite’s promotions didn’t fit properly. One player complained that Blair’s backpack is “just floating there pointlessly” and remarked, “Surely it’s not too hard to finetune the back bling specifically to its skin?” Another player made their point clear: “If I buy a skin/bundle and it comes with a backbling, I at least want it to fit the skin it comes with.” This Fortnite left players wondering why Epic Games doesn’t finetune backbling to each skin, or, at the very least, allow players to adjust it themselves. One player proposed a solution from another game: “Warframe does this and it’s amazing. You can adjust the X/Y/Z axis, pitch, and yaw to perfectly align them to your frames. I feel like this would not negatively affect Fortnite and would allow for more creativity with skins.” Although in-depth backbling customization has never been an option player, Epic Games used to individually tweak how backblings fit on characters’ backs. As another player explained, they would “adjust the hair of skins when you wore a back bling, like putting ponytails or braids over the shoulders.” This is not the only criticism Epic Games has faced from Fortnite players recently. Players have labeled the current season “stale” and streamer Ninja said the vehicle meta is for “losers.” As it stands, the Fortnite community hopes for improvements, especially considering competitors like Warframe have more comprehensive customization features.

  • Fortnite players claim Giant Chicken proves “Fat Peter Griffin” could work – Dexerto

Fortnite players claim Giant Chicken proves “Fat Peter Griffin” could work Epic GamesFortnite’s crossover with Family Guy has raised a lot of questions, especially after the arrival of Ernie the Giant Chicken. Players are now arguing their case that Epic could’ve made Peter’s “proportions” work. Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 ushered in a crossover with an unexpected hit, Family Guy. Progressing to level 70 in the Battle Pass unlocks Peter Griffin, albeit with a gigachad look. Peter’s arrival caused a stir, notably because the character’s appearance doesn’t match his usual physique. Players were confused as to why this was the case, and with the arrival of Peter’s rival, Ernie the Giant Chicken, the confusion only heightened as many wanted Peter in all his glory. As the dust settles after the launch of the Giant Chicken skin, players are arguing Peter’s default appearance could’ve worked perfectly fine in-game. Fortnite players claim “Fat Peter” could work To recap, the commotion around Ernie the Giant Chicken is focused on the character’s model. Typically, Fortnite models are smaller in size, due to concerns of hitbox issues and general visibility problems. However, Ernie threw that misconception out of the window due to his large stature, although this has raised fears of it being “pay to lose.” With Ernie in-game, players are now “showing” Peter Griffin’s typical stature could’ve worked in Fortnite. Fortnite player invisibile_grass is one of the many, as they shared a side-by-side of both character models, in response to a post stating it’s not possible. Many agreed it should be possible. “Optimus Primal is a pretty big skin and some other skins are huge. I don’t see why Peter wouldn’t work,” one player stated. Others argued it could’ve been a quality choice: “Don’t emotes and everything clip like hell on the chicken though? I can imagine they didn’t want a BP skin to have that many “quality issues.” Other skeptics are convinced it’s part of a ploy to sell him in the shop at some point. No matter where you stand, series creator, Seth MacFarlane, stated Peter’s design is the way it is because Epic Games didn’t have the resources to make the character’s actual body in Fortnite.

  • Fortnite players claim “hilariously overpowered” Chapter 5 weapon needs more nerfs – Dexerto

Fortnite players claim “hilariously overpowered” Chapter 5 weapon needs more nerfs FortniteFortnite players are united against an “overpowered” menace of a weapon in Chapter 5 Season 3. It’s a weapon so powerful that players are sacrificing themselves in the storm to keep it out of play. As Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 approaches its end, players can still get several mythics in the game. This includes the Conductor Hand Cannon, Cerberus’ Gatekeeper Shotgun, and Megalo Don’s Nitro Fists. Despite these powerful options, one shotgun in particular had players calling for it to be kept out of reach. Players went as far as finding ways to get it off the map entirely. On Reddit, a Fortnite player shared a screenshot captioned, “Sacrificed myself so no one would have to die to this gun.” Though they never explicitly mentioned the gun, the community quickly identified it: Oscar’s Frenzy Auto Shotgun. In the comments, Fortnite players voiced their frustrations against the weapon that can only be claimed by dueling the NPC. One exclaimed, “Went against it in 5 matches in a row when I least expected it and each time I’d die. I had to take a mental pause and just went to play festival.” A second player recalled the history of Oscar’s Frenzy Auto Shotgun: “When it first launched in Chapter 5 Season 1, it was hilariously overpowered.” Epic Games have since nerfed this shotgun by reducing its fire rate and headshot multiplier in update v29.10. That said, this player states that, despite those nerfs, “Oscar’s can still shred.” Other players took a lighter approach to the dramatic effort to keep Oscar’s Frenzy Auto Shotgun out of reach. They joked, “It’s a noble sacrifice, but you could have left it on storm hidden.” Another player joined in the fun, “That would’ve been the way to go, but I guess the power of it melted his brain.” This Fortnite season seems dominated by overpowered weapons like the Nitro Fists and Magneto Power. The one element in Fortnite that seems to be lacking in power, according to player reports, is the Tesla Cybertruck.

  • Fortnite players claim “disappointing” Fallout collab was a missed opportunity – Dexerto

Fortnite players claim “disappointing” Fallout collab was a missed opportunity Epic GamesFortnite players are disappointed over the Fallout collab, claiming it was a “missed opportunity” due to a certain cosmetic failing to appear. There was a lot of hype surrounding the Fortnite x Fallout collab when it was first teased before Chapter 5 Season 3 started. With the Fallout TV series being fresh, players were excited and couldn’t wait to explore what the collab offers in the Battle Royale. As Chapter 5, Season 3 began, it was revealed that some of the items from the collab included several new skins and even a Nuka-Cola, which fans praised as an excellent reference to the franchise. Given how huge the collab was, players initially thought there would be more to come – until the midseason rewards were unlocked. Now, as we’re nearing the end of the season, players in a Reddit thread have voiced their frustrations regarding the collab. While a Vault Boy bobblehead cosmetic was introduced in the Item Shop as the season went by, fans claim that not having the iconic Fallout Vault Dweller skins is a “missed opportunity.” One user commented, “A custom jumpsuit with the ability to change your vault number seems like a huge missed opportunity.” Another player wrote, “Honestly, the Fallout Collab has been kind of disappointing. No fault dwellers or actual vaults… The T60, Pip, and bobblehead are cool, but I am surprised that was it.” “I wanted the vault dwellers’ jumpsuits so bad. Epic Games failed to secure this,” a third person chimed in. On the other hand, one user even compared the Fallout collaboration to the one with Call of Duty: “In Call of Duty, they got the Vault Suits, and we got the armor. It should have been the other way around, but whatever.” While it’s unknown if more Fallout cosmetics will be added in the future, the idea isn’t impossible. Certain collaborations in Fortnite have shown that it’s possible for more characters or skins to come in a different wave. Only time will tell if it’ll be the same case with Fallout.

  • Fortnite players claim Epic’s “pitiful” Battle Pass improvements aren’t enough – Dexerto

Fortnite players claim Epic’s “pitiful” Battle Pass improvements aren’t enough FortniteFortnite has decreased the level needed to earn all 1500 V-Bucks in the Chapter 5 Season 3 Battle Pass, but players think there is room for improvement. Each season, Fortnite gives out 1500 V-Bucks in the Battle Pass, which initially costs 950. The return on investment is what attracts most players, if not for the plethora of skins and other cosmetic content. However, Fortnite has increased the minimum level needed to get all the rewards as chapters come and go. Players could unlock all the V-Bucks within the first 100 tiers in previous seasons. Recently, however, Fortnite increased the minimum level required to unlock all V-Bucks to 141. Despite a recent reduction to 122 with Chapter 5 Season 3, the community strongly advocates for a return to the original 100 tiers, aiming to curb the excessive grind. Although some still think that Fortnite lowering the V-Bucks rewards back 19 levels is a step in the right direction. “Epic nerfed the XP into the ground from last season, and people congratulate them for moving it back 19 levels lol. It still isn’t as bad as some other games, but it is a trend that continues to get worse,” said one Reddit user regarding the change. One commenter suggested that Fortnite should lower the rewards back to the original 100 tiers because they would be more inclined to spend money on the Battle Pass out of pure boredom rather than have to play the game to unlock the levels instead. The thread discussed these issues with XP and the seemingly never-ending grind a lot. Not only have the V-Bucks been pushed further in the Battle Pass, but the unlockable styles have also been pushed back. “I also remember when alternate colors for a set of items were unlocked all at once, instead of sprinkling them throughout 1-140,” stated another user. While some members of the Fortnite community feel that drastic changes need to be made to the game’s Battle Pass rewards, other members are eager to take on the challenge and hit unimaginable levels.

  • Fortnite players claim controller aim assist now works through walls – Dexerto

Fortnite players claim controller aim assist now works through walls Epic Games/UnsplashController players on Fortnite believe that aim assist can now be toggled through buildings following the latest Season 2 update. Aim assist on controllers has always been a hot topic in Fortnite, particularly among the competitive community. Many of the top streamers and pro players, such as Tfue, have been quite vocal on the feature, with many claiming that it provides too much of an advantage for those used to playing on console. After the latest Chapter 2, Season 2 patch, popular controller player and streamer ‘ohcrr’ expressed that he even felt as if the aim assist had become too strong. The Fortnite star claimed that following the latest update, controller players have been able to toggle their aim assist through structures to find out where players are, “this season we get aim assist through player built structures.” He later called for Epic Games to fix the issue and revealed that he planned on using the feature to his advantage, although he was worried it might look suspicious while competing at a major event. May aswell say it so they patch it, this season we get aim assist through player built structures. Please fix I can aim at a massive build fight and go from left to right to see where people are hiding. — crr (@crr) February 22, 2020 The popular streamer later believed that he had made a mistake and claimed that the glitch had been caused because he was in a bush, although it appears to be an issue for Fortnite players regardless. https://twitter.com/ohcrr/status/1231440570402381824 However, there have been many players who have claimed otherwise, stating that they had also noticed the potential glitch while playing on a controller both with and without a bush https://twitter.com/miiilks/status/1231290129374945280 yeah i noticed and it’s kinda fucked. i was holding a mini gun and waiting for an edit and was able to track him in his box — dual (@RentToPay) February 22, 2020 As many of the top players have continued to voice their frustrations with controller aim assist, it is likely that this glitch will be patched soon, if indeed unintended. Epic Games have revealed that they are already investigating “reports of aim assist performing inconsistently”, after posting to their community Trello board that they are aware of the issue.

  • Fortnite players claim Chapter 5 Season 1 is the “most boring season ever” – Dexerto

Fortnite players claim Chapter 5 Season 1 is the “most boring season ever” Epic GamesIt seems Fortnite fans are ready for a change in scenery, as one player blasts this season as the “most boring” season ever. Chapter 5 has been a big one for Epic Games, as the studio introduced new waves of content to Fortnite. Three new modes debuted — LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival — and new improvements joined the core Battle Royale portion. However, not everything was well-received this season, with recurring criticisms being the Item Shop, sniper rifles, and underutilization of the mod system. As the season winds down, fans are sharing how they felt, with one feeling dubbing it the “most boring season ever.” Fortnite player slams Chapter 5 Season 1 In a critical post shared to the Fortnite subreddit, one player shared why they felt Chapter 5 Season 1 severely underperformed compared to previous seasons. “The map is bland and pretty much every POI feels the same with no uniqueness. Not to mention the way it’s designed doesn’t feel like Fortnite’s normal cartoony vibe,” Reddit user ComprehensiveBox6911 said. They go on to blast the train POI, one of this season’s highlights, before dubbing the loot pool as boring. The Item Shop didn’t escape the criticism either, as they claim LEGO ruined the shop, a popular criticism amongst fans. They end the post with this season earning a 5/10, of course, after pointing out concerns with the locker UI. A lot of the player’s criticisms are issues fans have had all season. Fortnite’s known for its zany appearance, yet it’s seemingly dialed back this season for a more mature tone, which hasn’t resonated with fans. “This map is missing goofiness,” one player said. Although another added on: “The only goofy thing about this map is Peter Griffin dying.” Reflecting on the tonal shift, one player said: “It’s feeling more like 3rd person Warzone.” Other critics agreed with the train’s underutilization, with the widespread sentiment being players are ready for Season 2. However before that hits, one final update is set to bridge the gap, hopefully addressing some player problems.

  • Fortnite players claim Chapter 5 Season 3 XP has been “massively nerfed” in every mode – Dexerto

Fortnite players claim Chapter 5 Season 3 XP has been “massively nerfed” in every mode Epic GamesChapter 5 Season 3 is off to the races, but Fortnite players have noticed their quest XP gains have been left in the dust. Since the arrival of Chapter 5 and all its new modes, there have been many ways to gain XP in Fortnite to level up the Battle Pass. However, as the seasons have passed, players have felt that even though there are more ways to gain XP, the gains have kept decreasing. During Chapter 5 Season 2, fans started to question the lackluster XP rewards. This season has been no different, and players have felt increasingly frustrated after discovering that certain XP rewards have been nerfed even more. In a breakdown post, a player revealed that while players gain more for completing weekly quests, the daily bonus and match quest rewards are significantly less. Players miss out on 49,000 XP per week in Chapter 5 Season 3, compared to last season. Player feedback was less than stellar since XP is pivotal in completing Fortnite’s Battle Pass. The top sentiment expressed: “What the hell. It’s gonna be EVEN harder to get level 200 this time??” A key redesign to XP gains this season has been the removal of match quests, with daily quests making their place instead. This change has left many disappointed since the randomness of daily quests could “leave you screwed if you had awful or grindy dailies.” This XP nerf has also bled into other aspects of the game. Creator Island’s gains were rough last season, and they follow a similar trend in Chapter 5, Season 3. “I played Creator maps for 3 hrs yesterday, and oh boy has the experience dropped hard,” one player shared. Others revealed similar horror stories of negligible gains in the Creator-made playlists. This similar issue has been present in Fortnite for some time, and while Epic Games has reverted some changes, the community still feels that it is being made harder to get XP rewards.

  • Fortnite players claim Chapter 5 is too similar to Call of Duty – Dexerto

Fortnite players claim Chapter 5 is too similar to Call of Duty Epic Games / ActivisionFortnite players complained that Epic Games has moved away from the artstyle and gameplay that made Fortnite popular and that the game has become too much like Call of Duty. Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 was released to massive praise from fans, and Epic Games expanded the game to include modes like LEGO Fortnite and Rocket Racing which players loved. But hardcore fans of the original game mode, the Battle Royale, claimed that Epic Games moved away from what made the game successful in the first place – the “cartoony” artstyle and “crazy” guns and gameplay. In a community social media post, loyal fans of Fortnite joined to complain about the Call of Duty-like direction they believed the developers had taken in Chapter 5 Season 1, and stated what things they would like to see return to the game. Fortnite players want “crazy” gameplay back In the original post, shared on Reddit, one player was confused about the changes made to Fortnite in Chapter 5 Season 1. “Why is epic going away from the cartoony artstyle and gameplay?” “One of the most unique things about Fortnite that separated them from the other top br games was the cartoony, vibrant artstyle pois and crazy kinda guns,” they continued. “I for one miss that and wish epic would go back to that instead of this boring, realistic cod/pubg stuff they’ve pushed in chapter 5”. Other players agreed that they weren’t fans of the new “Call of Duty-esque” changes to Fortnite. “They [Epic Games] really need to go back to being a cartoony fun game, give more wacky stuff.” Crazy features players wanted to return to the game were things like the Ballers and “the weird planes”. Despite some complaints about Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 gameplay, the changes have still been seen as an overwhelming success for Epic Games.

  • Fortnite players convinced Chapter 4 made the game way harder – Dexerto

Fortnite players convinced Chapter 4 made the game way harder Epic GamesSome longtime Fortnite players think they’ve been dying more following the recent release of Chapter 4 Season 1. The Chapter 4 update launched this past weekend, introducing a new map, a reworked battle pass, and an upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.1. After the literally game-changing Fractured event brought an end to Chapter 3, Fortnite users bore witness to the construction of a previously unseen locale. Interestingly, the latest playable map is marginally smaller than its predecessor, a point some players can’t help but point out when discussing Fortnite’s perceived difficulty spike. Fortnite fans think Chapter 4 Season 1 upped the difficulty Fortnite player SopadeAbacaxi recently posed the following question to the game’s community on Reddit – “[Are you guys] suddenly dying a LOT more this season or is it just me?” The Redditor claims their squad typically boasts a 60 percent win rate, but Chapter 4 has made it so winning even one game feels like a “surprise.” “Idk what it is, but the game seems harder,” the player added, saying some people now deal more damage with common weapons than they do with rare or epic guns. While many seem to agree with the sentiment that Fortnite’s undergone a difficulty spike, some believe it’s the fault of technical troubles. One Redditor noted that “bugs and lag” have resulted in their death far more times than fights against skilled opponents. Others chimed in to say the lag definitely feels worse now, even on Switch where such issues were already worrisome. In addition, some have attributed to heightened difficulty to Fortnite Chapter 4’s smaller map size and new mobility options. Because of this, “fights are happening a lot faster… [and] can be hectic at times,” another user added. It would seem the latest version of Fortnite will require an adjustment period for veterans and newcomers alike.

  • Fortnite players claim “broken” invincible car glitch has returned – but there’s a catch – Dexerto

Fortnite players claim “broken” invincible car glitch has returned – but there’s a catch Epic GamesThe indestructible car glitch may have returned to Fortnite during Chapter 5 Season 3, letting you turn any Mythic car into an invincible Victory Royale winning machine. But there’s a catch. Originally, the bug was discovered during this season following the release of the three Mythic Nitro cars. However, another iteration of the glitch has been discovered as a result of Magneto’s Power gauntlets being added on July 2, 2024. Various posts have appeared across Fortnite social feeds on TikTok and other platforms revealing the new way to perform the method. Despite some players getting confused with the old way, performing it wrongly, or saying it has already been patched, creator Major Meowzer and others have claimed it still works. “The invincible car glitch is back and it’s even easier to do than last time,” Major Meowzer said in their YouTube video and continued: “All you need is the Magneto gloves and someone to help you do the glitch. First, have your helper sit inside the car and then use the shield ability to push the car inside the cage. “Once inside, your teammate can hop out of the car and then either use a pair of Magneto gloves that they already had or just pick yours up through the top of the cage. Then all they need to do is just push the car out and you’ll have a fully unbreakable car.” Major Meowzer ended with a key detail that has caught various players out: “I do have to warn you though your teammate will be stuck inside the cage unless you use the Medallion to get him out, but if you do this, then the car will lose its invincibility.” Fortnite creator Relishh has also claimed in a post that the players inside the cage can escape by knocking themselves out and having a friend come up to the cage and revive them. This allegedly makes it so that when you leave, the invincibility effect doesn’t disappear from the Mythic Nitro car.

  • Fortnite players celebrate final days of Waterbending as Season 3 fast approaches – Dexerto

Fortnite players celebrate final days of Waterbending as Season 3 fast approaches Epic GamesFortnite players are rejoicing in the removal of the Waterbending mythic soon, as Chapter 5 Season 3 is right around the corner. Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is just days away from its end, which means the current loot pool will be drastically changed for the upcoming Season 3. Among the current weapons, Waterbending is one of those that will be vaulted forever, and players who have often complained about it in the current season are celebrating its final days. Players are expressing their joy about the removal of Waterbending from Battle Royale when Season 3 finally hits on May 24. As one said, “Can’t wait for this absolute crutch of an item to be gone.” Another chimed in, “Good riddance. I hate Waterbending more than snipers. I think Epic could have nerfed the range heavily, and it would still have been a great weapon.” A third player wrote, “It became a must-have item pretty much. If someone didn’t pick it up our team is at an instant disadvantage. Saying that I will be happy to see it leave.” A fourth one said, “I literally never want to see a scroll in Fortnite ever again. I am so tired of this unbalanced horrible weapon.” Waterbending has been one of the most criticized weapons in Fortnite due to its damage output and range. The weapon has been a reason for rage among players, so much so that even Doja Cat expressed harsh criticism of it in a series of posts on her X page. “Because of Waterbending, I would become severely depressed if I had to rely on any of these stupid non-f***ing weapons,” she said in an X post while slamming Chains of Hades at the same time. Throughout Chapter 5 Season 2, Fortnite players have replaced Snipers and Marksman Rifles in their load-outs with Waterbending due to its lower time-to-kill ratio and overpowered stats. Now that the weapon finally leaves on May 24, players await new mythics that will be added with a Fallout crossover next season.

  • Fortnite players celebrate upcoming return of pray and spray meta in Chapter 5 Season 2 – Dexerto

Fortnite players celebrate upcoming return of pray and spray meta in Chapter 5 Season 2 Epic GamesFortnite players are celebrating the upcoming return of an infamous pray and spray weapon in Chapter 5 Season 2. Here’s what it is. Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 offers a diverse selection of weaponry to help you climb the 100-player queue and earn the coveted Victory Royale. From the new Warforged Assault Rifle to the fabled Lightning of Zeus, players are inventing new strategies to win games this season. Among all, the aforementioned mythic, when combined with the Wings of Icarus item, has been a complete game changer, and some may argue that it may ensure your victory in every single Battle Royale match. However, the weapons this time are on par with a few new weapon mods you may employ to arm yourself and defeat enemies. Despite this, many players still miss the old Fortnite meta of using pray and spray weapons. While the current season has speedy firing weapons, players are excited about the rumored return of a pray and spray weapon which is rumored to appear in the game in coming days. Fortnite players excited for Drum Gun’s return in Chapter 5 Season 2 According to data miners like ShiinaBR and Guille_GAG, the Drum Gun will likely be unvaulted soon in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 since it has been added to in-game news feed files in several languages today. The data miner also attached a convincing image of the weapon description in front of the current season’s themed backdrop. Upon looking at the rumored arrival of a fan-favorite weapon from the past, several players celebrated its return and expressed their excitement. One such player said, “Imagine a Drum Gun with the double drum ammo (if it is possible with attachments).” Another chimed in, “I wanna be a mafia with that. Let’s go brr.” A third user wrote, “Now I can pray and spray easier against my winged enemies.” A fourth one commented, “I think this drum gun will be able to beat Frenzy Auto Shotgun.” A fifth user replied, “Can’t wait for 90% of the people who cry again when they get beamed by this beautiful weapon. A casual’s nightmare. I love it.” Although this is only a rumor as of yet, it’ll be quite interesting to see how this plays out when the next Fortnite update hits in the ongoing season.

  • Fortnite players celebrate big change to Capture Points – Dexerto

Fortnite players celebrate big change to Capture Points Epic GamesRecently, Epic Games deployed a hotfix for Fortnite that significantly altered Capture Points on the Chapter 4 Season 3 island. After the change was implemented, players took to social media to express their appreciation. Here is what has occurred so far. Capture Points were added to Fortnite in Chapter 4 Season 1, giving players a new method to claim loot on the island. These are positioned at all POIs across the entire map. In Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3, players can travel to a Capture Point and stand in the designated area for several seconds to claim loot consisting of weapons and consumables. The majority of the loot fallen upon capturing a Capture Point is Rare or Epic in rarity. The only Capture Point that delivers a Mythic-enhanced Drum Shotgun and Slurp Juice is located on the loot island. While Capture Points are convenient methods to obtain loot, players have been dissatisfied with the amount of time it takes to claim one, which eats into their match time. Consequently, some of them prefer to completely avoid it. Epic Games has recently implemented a hotfix that significantly reduces the amount of time required to claim Capture Points in order to resolve this issue. The community responded as follows. Epic Games reduce time to claim Capture Points in Fortnite According to Fortnite content creator Happy Power, Epic Games made a significant change to Capture Points in Chapter 4 Season 3’s most recent hotfix. Similar to revives and Reboot Vans, you will now be able to secure them faster based on the number of players assisting. Here’s how much time it will take now to claim a Capture Point on the Fortnite island: 1 player: 45 seconds – 2 players: 25 seconds – 3 players: 18 seconds – 4 players: 15 seconds – As soon as the news spread on social media, players began entering the game to experience the change for themselves and praising the developers for the same. One such player commented, “Glad about this, maybe my team mates will actually spread apart less”. Another one chimed in, “Finally I been talking about this being a idea for awhile glad it’s a reality now”. On the other hand players who thought the change came in too late added, “Should’ve been like that from the start”. While there has been no official announcement from Epic on their social media accounts or website, players will notice the change if they travel to a nearby Capture Point with their teammates to claim it immediately and share the loot.

  • Fortnite players can’t stop looking at the Chun-Li Street Fighter skin – Dexerto

Fortnite players can’t stop looking at the Chun-Li Street Fighter skin Epic GamesEpic Games introduced a new Fortnite Street Fighter skin based on Chun-Li and players just can’t stop looking at it, for some reason. The game’s community will be no stranger to crossovers, as it’s been a long-term goal for its developers to bring loads of games to life in their battle royale experience. In Season 5, it kicked off with The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda. While players were delighted about their arrival, along with the new Mando ship POI, there’s a very different level of hype around the Street Fighter skin – added on February 20. People can’t stop talking about it and more to the point, they also can’t stop looking at it either. It’s actually getting rather weird. The skin is available in the Fortnite Item Shop and can be purchased by players. Whether or not the hype around it on social media leads to a spike in those bought remains to be seen, but some people are certainly getting carried away by what they see.

  • Fortnite players caught teaming in solo Pop-Up Cup – Dexerto

Fortnite players caught teaming in solo Pop-Up Cup Epic GamesA Fortnite streamer broadcast himself teaming up with another player in a recent Solo Pop-Up cup, prompting a number of questions from the community. The Pop-Up cups in Fortnite take the normal Battle Royale mode and put a spin on it – usually in the way of changing health and shields or capping the amount of materials players can use. In this instance, participants in the Solo event were only able to use 500 of each material – Wood, Brick and Metal – instead of the usual 999. However, two players decided to team up for the event and stream it live on Twitch. While Duo Pop-Up cups are a thing, the community was outraged by players teaming up in a solo event. The streamer, Matthew ‘Seal’ Zappia, showed himself communicating with another player who asks him for “medkit or camp(fire)” in a bid to heal. After receiving messages about the situation being Tweeted about, the other player said: “I saw, dude (the Twitter videos) I don’t know why they care so much. Like, OK dude, sorry I gave Seal 30 shield dude in a fucking Solo pop-up that’s worth nothing. Players have been banned from Fortnite for breaking this rule in the past, so its hard to see them not following the same path.

  • Fortnite players can soon drop in from the Battle Bus as the Battle Bus – Dexerto

Fortnite players can soon drop in from the Battle Bus as the Battle Bus Epic GamesFortnite has announced a new Transformers pack will be arriving later this year, including new skins and accessories starring Bumblebee, Megatron, and even the iconic Battle Bus itself. Epic Games’ Fortnite is arguably one of the most impactful games of the last decade. Leaving a mark both financially and culturally, the base defense turned Battle Royale saw a surge in player base and popularity infiltrating almost all aspects of popular culture in recent years. And popular culture too left its mark on Fortnite, with the game collaborating with many franchises to create the biggest fever dream of a shooter yet. Collaborations with Marvel, Naruto, Attack on Titan, Halo, the NFL, and more have meant that Sasuke fighting Master Chief using the Infinity Gauntlet is now a thing you can do without thinking twice. Now, a new collaboration has been showcased via a blog post on the Fortnite website. The next big franchise to collab with the battle royale giant will be none other than Transformers. However, one of the names in the lineup doesn’t quite come from the aforementioned series. Fortnite reveals Battle Bus Transformer skin as part of new pack The new Fortnite Transformers Pack will be launching in October 2023, with physical copies rolling out on October 13, and digital copies becoming available on October 21. The pack includes 3 new outfits, 3 new back blings, 3 new pickaxes, 2 new emotes, and 1,000 V-Bucks for players to use. The outfits are inspired by the titular characters from the franchise, including Bumblebee, Megatron and of course the literal Fortnite Battle Bus as a Transformer. Not only will the Battle Bus be receiving its very own skin with the new pack, but it’ll also be paired with a back bling and pickaxe. Now, after years and years of waiting, players can finally drop from the Fortnite Battle Bus as, well, the Fortnite Battle Bus and farm Victory Royales to their heart’s content.

  • Fortnite players call out Epic Games for allowing cheaters during tournament – Dexerto

Fortnite players call out Epic Games for allowing cheaters during tournament FortniteFortnite players are slamming Epic Games for “not doing their job” when it comes to cracking down on cheaters after a YouTube streamer participated in a Chapter 5 tournament while using blatant cheats. Epic has faced criticism for its past mishandling of cheaters, particularly when it comes to third-party exploits and allowing players to achieve unrealistically high levels through experience cheats. The latest incident involves a YouTuber and streamer caught using cheats during a tournament. This has sparked outrage within the community, once again blaming Epic for failing to effectively address Fortnite cheating issues. “Really feels like Epic isn’t doing their job anymore taking care of cheaters, they could threaten legal action against all of the people posting the hacks and cheats and shit on YouTube and TikTok yet they all allow that kind of content to stay up,” pointed out one commenter. A video of the cheating Fortnite streamer was posted to Reddit as a compilation of the multiple kills that they got during the tournament from their point of view. The video clearly shows a large white circle around the player’s crosshair, which was identified as an aim bot add-on by commenters. In addition to hitting all of their shots, the fact that all of the enemies had their in-game names displayed above their heads was a red flag, as Fortnite does not offer that information without cheats. “Hate to say it, but for everyone, you do find on YouTube, there are 10-20 more you don’t see. It’s a shame Epic doesn’t have people who look for this stuff and ban them,” said another commenter. The video shared by the Reddit poster had to be edited because it advertised the cheater’s Discord, which promotes a type of cheat known as “soft aiming” that enables unnaturally precise aim. Despite the public display of these cheats during the Fortnite tournament matches, it seems like the cheater remains at large.

  • Fortnite players call out “janky” Chapter 5 movement – Dexerto

Fortnite players call out “janky” Chapter 5 movement Epic GamesFortnite’s new season introduces a slew of new changes, including a pass over the movement mechanics. However, not everyone is a fan of the changes. The newest Fortnite season is here, and aside from the server instability, it’s brought plentiful changes. Chapter 5, Season 1, aka Underground, is one of Fortnite’s largest seasons yet, as it introduces weapon mods, new game modes, and a chiseled Peter Griffin. Aside from the notable changes, one adjustment that’s been flying under the radar has been the new movement mechanics. Chapter 5 introduces wall climbing and reintroduces hurdling after it was disabled in Chapter 4, Season 1. As cool as these new movement mechanics are, their implementation has left much to be desired, with initial reactions less than pleased. SypherPK shares initial thoughts on Fortnite Chapter 5 One of the headlines of Chapter 5 is the all-new wall climbing and the return hurdling. Many animations have also gotten a pass over, making Fortnite Chapter 5 feel as unique as possible. Despite rampant server instability, well-known streamer and content creator SyhperPK has managed to put in some serious time in the new season. Taking to Twitter/X, he shared his initial thoughts, with plenty of praise towards the cosmetics, the map, and the weapon mod system. Conversely, he shared he wasn’t a fan of Fortnite Chapter 5’s movement, citing it as “too slow/janky at times.” Safe to say, Sypher’s take wasn’t unpopular at all. “Crazy that in an attempt to make movement more smooth, they made it stiff as f*ck,” one play replied. Another shared a more dire take: “They seriously need to change back to the old movement and the season is amazing. It’s nearly unplayable…” Strangely enough, one player shared it might be a placebo effect. “The problem is the upper body doesn’t shake as much so it’s creating a placebo that you’re walking slow. But placebo or not, the movement doesn’t feel smooth.” However, that take wasn’t as popular, with many replying it is slow, not just a trick on the eyes. It’ll be interesting to see how Epic addresses these claims, as the new movement was an intended change for Chapter 5.

  • Fortnite players call out devs for “slacking” on Crew skins – Dexerto

Fortnite players call out devs for “slacking” on Crew skins Epic GamesMany Fortnite fans have spoken up about disliking Crew Pack skins while comparing the latest designs to previous ones. Crew Packs are granted to anyone who has purchased the Fortnite Crew monthly subscription, and each month players receive a new exclusive cosmetic pack. These typically include one character, glider, and melee skin. September 2024’s Crew Pack, Dali, has been ridiculed by some fans who miss the older designs. One fan on Reddit posted an image of the upcoming Crew Pack versus the skins from August 2023, asking if they could get old Crew Skins back. The replies mainly agreed with the poster, with one fan explaining how they canceled their subscription after the previous month’s skin: “They’re hardly ever anything I would actually want to use anymore.” Another response mentioned how the devs butchered the skin, which had better-looking concept art: “I was excited for her to be released before but they did her so dirty compared to her concept art.” The design’s concept art has been a point of contention for the past few weeks, with one fan in particular reworking the skin to match the concept design. The post has over 4,000 likes and most responses agree with the negative sentiment. “We were robbed,” one user wrote alongside a crying emoji. Another Reddit post added more fuel to the fire by calling out the Crew Pack for “slacking.” The poster explained how the previous month’s Crew Pack skin was a ripoff of the Machinest. “And this month it’s literally the same colors lol,” they added. Several responses to this post wondered why the Crew Packs don’t follow the themes of the seasons in which they are released. “100% should have been a Superhero/super villain skin,” one fan admitted. This is because Chapter 5 Season 4 is Marvel-themed for the Absolute Doom event. The good news is that fans itching for great skins can look forward to future Fortnite Shop updates since leaks have revealed a rare skin may make a return.

  • Fortnite players call for updates to old & outdated anime skins – Dexerto

Fortnite players call for updates to old & outdated anime skins Epic GamesSeeing the newly released Fortnite My Hero Academia skins, some players have pointed out that old anime skins should be updated to have a better look. Aside from collaborations with popular TV shows, movies, and celebrities, Fortnite has been known to bring anime skins to the game. The most noticeable thing about anime skins, however, is that they have a different look than most skins with a 3D appearance in-game. Anime skins have a cell-shaded look with an outlined body. And it’s the same case with other animated series skins, such as Rick and Morty or Family Guy. But now that the My Hero Academia skins‘ newest line has just dropped, fans have noticed something significantly different. With a side-by-side image of Ochaco, who’s part of the collab’s first wave released in 2022, and Himiko Toga from the latest League of Villains bundle, one user wrote on X, “Makes you WISH they would go back and redo the older ones like the Naruto ones or the first wave of DBZ skins.” While it’s no secret that recent Fortnite skins have more detail compared to older ones, this is especially noticeable in cell-shaded skins. Following this, one person suggested that Fortnite update Goku’s skin from the Dragon Ball Z collab; “Bro, they need to redo Goku and Vegeta. Like wtf, Goku Black looks more like Goku than Goku.” Also regarding the Dragon Ball Z collab released in 2022, one person suggested that Vegeta gets an update, solely because “Vegeta only looks like Vegeta from an angle.” “Literally because why can I not see Ochaco’s nose or why does Naruto and Sakura look botched,” mentioned another. “I need them to redo Naruto because they did my boy so unfathomably dirty,” suggested a different user. It’s unknown if these skins will get updated in the future, but if there’s going to be a new wave from previous anime collabs, it’s likely they’ll get the same or even better treatment.

  • Fortnite players call for visual changes over “dull” colors in Chapter 5 Season 3 – Dexerto

Fortnite players call for visual changes over “dull” colors in Chapter 5 Season 3 Epic GamesFortnite players have revealed they would like to see certain visual changes return to the game following the “dull” colors in the current season. Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 3 didn’t just bring a whole new vehicle meta that no one expected, but also an all-new Reload game mode that brings back OG POIs and weapons. And right off the bat, it’s clear that this addition to the game has been well-received, to the point that the player count surpassed other modes. With Reload, new players who just jumped into the Battle Royale can finally have a peek at what it was like playing in the early seasons of Fortnite. But that’s not all – since Reload is all about the OG, the graphics have also been changed to match the visuals of older seasons. The discussion of Fortnite players wanting OG graphics back isn’t anything new, but following Reload, some players in an X post have expressed they’d like visual changes related to the grass and colors to be brought back to all Fortnite modes: “I think the Fortnite community has been clear: We want green grass and vibrant colors over the dull colors of real life.” The POIs in Fortnite constantly get tweaked every season, adding new biomes, details, NPCs, and many others. Hence, seeing the color palette change all around the map is something that’s to be expected. “Yeah, honestly. I’m not even one of those OG players that wants that old stuff back; I’m a new school player from Chapter 4 and onwards mostly (although I started in C2S8), and I can definitely say I prefer the former biome coloration trend,” mentioned one user. Another user wrote: “100 percent. I really hope the success of OG and Reload has shown Epic something. They have the chance to follow their old formula in CH6.” Meanwhile, one user pointed out that the “realistic graphics” are causing them serious performance issues. “Fortnite OC I had my absolute best performance since chapter 2 but that only lasted a month,” they said. “Once they went unreal 5 and hyper-realistic bulls**** my game feels like a potato every game.” “Yeah, I miss the vibrancy that older seasons had,” another chimed in. All in all, while a portion of the comments mentioned they don’t mind the current season’s style, it’s clear that some players are missing the look of previous seasons. However, knowing that the theme changes every season, there’s always a possibility that the visuals go in a different direction in the future.

  • Fortnite players call for “unfair” pay-to-win superhero skin to be nerfed – Dexerto

Fortnite players call for “unfair” pay-to-win superhero skin to be nerfed Epic GamesFortnite players have discovered a major flaw with the customizable superhero skin, and now they want it nerfed or removed from the game entirely. Epic Games’ popular battle royale has always offered some of the best downloadable skins in gaming, with recent additions including Master Chief from Halo, Michonne and Daryl from The Walking Dead, and of course The Mandalorian. These skins – as well as the various other cosmetics like pickaxes and gliders – have always been included on the basis that they “grant no competitive advantage” in Fortnite, meaning they’re purely visual additions. But the customizable superhero skin that was introduced in Season 4 has now been called out by fans for being ‘pay-to-win’, as turning the skin all-black means players can get an advantage by remaining hidden in shadows. In a thread titled “So do you think the black superhero skins need a nerf?” on Reddit, user Pricytoaster highlighted the problem at hand with a simple screenshot. The image was taken during a match where an opponent wearing the all-black superhero skin was hidden in the corner of a house. Because of the shadows, they were unable to be seen, giving them the perfect opportunity to sneakily take down other players. The thread in question has drawn hundreds of complaints from fellow Fortnite players who have experienced the same problem, and many of them have been calling for Epic to nerf the skin to keep the game fair for everyone. “This is blatantly unfair and pay-to-win,” wrote one frustrated player. Another added: “Remove this immediately! Having the Superhero skins be all white or black ruins the fun of it, due to their camouflage potential.” The issue is especially prevalent for those playing Fortnite on consoles, as they don’t have the option to turn off shadows in their graphics settings. All-white skins have also been a problem in snow-covered locations. We’re assuming Epic will address this issue at some point, especially if players keep speaking out about it. Some have suggested that a different-colored outline could be applied to the skin, which would fit in with the superhero comic-book style. “They should just give it a white outline or something simple like that,” wrote one Fortnite player, to which another responded, “That would be pretty cool actually. I honestly think it would make the skin better to look at.” Some fans had a more cynical view of why the skin hasn’t been changed yet, with one writing: “I think the main reason Epic is not nerfing the skin is because this black style makes them so much money.” The superhero skin has attracted a lot of attention since players began complaining about it, so much so that Epic have now addressed the issue with a comment on Reddit confirming that the team is investigating. “We’re looking at it,” they wrote. “Thanks everyone for raising it.” Comment byu/HeWhoHasSeenFootage from discussion inFortNiteBR We’ll have to wait and see whether Epic nerfs the customizable superhero skin, or lets players carry on using it to their advantage. It would be a shame for it to be removed completely, so we’re hoping it gets adjusted slightly instead.

  • Fortnite players call for Skirmish events to be postponed after more lag issues – Dexerto

Fortnite players call for Skirmish events to be postponed after more lag issues It was another lag filled week of the Fortnite Fall Skirmish unfortunately, as the $10 million series continues to struggle with connection issues. The fifth week of competition was a duos tournament, won by Team Liquid’s Thomas ’72hrs’ Mulligan and Ryan ‘Chap’ Chaplo, but was marred somewhat by the lag issues. Some of the game’s biggest stars, including Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins and TSM’s Ali ‘Myth’ Kabbani, took to Twitter to express their frustration with connection problems. One of the most telling clips comes from Ninja’s own stream, where a build battle gets very messy and laggy, ultimately causing his demise. Ninja is understandably infuriated, saying “why do we even play? It’s so stupid. I love everything they’re trying to do, but that is just not ok, and it’s like that every week. They have to do something.” TSM’s Myth even suggested that Epic Games put such high payout tournaments on hold until they can resolve the issues caused by lag. I don’t know what EPIC’s plans are for the future but I do have just one suggestion if anyone is listening Please take a break from these MILLION dollar skirmishes until the lag is fixed. You can have 100 players at the snap of your fingers to test this stuff. Jas Do Et — Myth (@TSM_Myth) October 20, 2018 Similarly, FaZe Clan’s Dennis ‘Cloak’ Lepore thought it might be best if the Skirmish was just put on hold for a week, as the competitive integrity was undermined by lag. More: Full recap of Fortnite Fall Skirmish Week 5 tournament – highlights, final scores and placements, and current Club standings – Another Team Liquid player, Jake ‘Poach’ Brumleve also wanted Epic to reconsider running the Skirmish events with such massive prize pools until the issues are fixed, comparing it to winning the lottery. EPIC needs to sort out these issues before massive prize pools are given in these tourneys. Every week there is some sort of lag and it IS game-changing. Its like playing a different game, NOTHING you practice matters. — POACH (@LiquidPoach) October 19, 2018 Ninja himself took to Twitter to call the lag ‘unbearable’. Epic Games have so far done little to acknowledge the issues, but with yet another week so badly effected, they will surely be considering future options. Rough skirmish man, had Three 3 kill games just shy of 1 point and the lag end game when we had mats was unbearable. Still always a learning experience and enjoyed the matches with @MoNsTcR Still gaming https://t.co/QC3Dpr8MTr — Ninja (@Ninja) October 19, 2018 The final week of the Fall Skirmish will be played on LAN at TwitchCon on October 26-28, so perhaps there will be no major lag issues there if Epic can optimize better, as the final prize money is handed out.

  • Fortnite players call for “underrated” game mode to return – Dexerto

Fortnite players call for “underrated” game mode to return Epic GamesFortnite players claim they miss this “underrated” limited-time game mode, begging to have it brought back to the game. While Fortnite is mostly known for its Battle Royale and Zero Build mode, the game does offer players the experience to try out new limited-time modes once in a while. Steady Storm, Infinity Gauntlet, and Sniper Shootout are some of the most popular ones players seem to love. However, out of all LTMs, there’s one mode that received a lot of hype in the past, only to have it removed after a while. That LTM is none other than Impostor, a game mode inspired by Among Us. As the name suggests, this mode pits innocent players against “impostors” whose goal is to sabotage their work while secretly eliminating them. Now that the mode has been gone for over a year, players have admitted to missing it and are begging for it to be brought back. “Do you guys miss the impostors game mode?” asked a player in a Reddit thread. They explained that given that Chapter 5 has added new game modes like LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Festival, this would be a good time to bring the “underrated” mode back before asking others their opinion of the mode making a return. Many players in the comments agreed with the OP, suggesting that it should be brought back to Fortnite. Some players even said they regretted taking the mode “for granted” while it was still available. A user mentioned that this should return as it was “so much fun to play.” They wrote, “I remember back when that was out, me and my friends and I would play that game all the time, and it was so fun to see who was Impostor and to hide/run from Impostor.” Some players agreed solely because it was one of the best and easiest ways to level up the Battle Pass. Meanwhile, another user pointed out that while they agreed the mode was a “fun change,” they mentioned that “dumb people” were the problem. Though players are aware that a similar mode can be played in Creative, one user argued that “it’s just not the same,” given the limitations of Fortnite Creative.

  • Fortnite players call for OG to be permanent after new game modes underwhelm – Dexerto

Fortnite players call for OG to be permanent after new game modes underwhelm Epic GamesFortnite players have once again demanded that Epic Games return the fan-favorite OG version permantly after the three new modes, including LEGO Fortnite, has declined in popularity. Fortnite unleashed three groundbreaking new game modes to kick off Chapter 5 Season 1 on December 3, 2023. Fresh off the back of The Big Bang event, players surged in to check out the “whole new beginning” as records were instantly shattered. Rocket Racing, Festival and in particularly LEGO Fortnite, caused the game to achieve over 44 million players in just one day. However, following calls for more features to be added and declining player count figures for the new modes, players in the community have again rallied for the fan-favorite Fortnite OG to make a permanent return. Fortnite players slam new game modes over decreasing popularity Fortnite player MrSponge_ fired back at claims in the community that “Fortnite OG shouldn’t be a permanent mode it will have no players and get boring.” To which they responded: “Meanwhile the other permanent modes other than BR:,” and posted a screenshot from the Discover tab to compare the player count figures across each main mode. The staple Battle Royale mode showed over 300,000 active players, while Festival had the least with just over 5,000, Rocket Racing with nearly 8,000 and finally LEGO Fortnite with close to 28,000. Players soon chimed in to give their thoughts. The top comment read: “Admittedly… there’s work to do on those early modes. Rocket racing ranked is very frustrating at some point. Festival probably sells songs, so they’re fine with that. And anyone I know playing LEGO has already ‘beat’ it.” Much of the discussion revolved around players ultimately getting bored with each mode and heading back to BR “I actually really liked LEGO, but after I had done everything there was to do in survival, I lost interest in it. It doesn’t have the depth of a lot of the other survival games like that,” one player said. Despite some stating that “It’s early. They have a ton planned for LEGO” and the other modes, others were less convinced. “They shouldn’t have released it in its current state imo. Coinciding the release with Chapter 5 definitely hurt them,” one said as another claimed that “LEGO would have been 100x better if the world was actually made of LEGOs, it’s an extremely bland looking crafting game compared to the competition.” Whether you are enjoying Fortnite’s new modes or not, they are still only just over two months old and Epic Games has already outlined plans for continued updates. In 2024, they have already launched two content updates. This includes v28.20 patches for LEGO Fortnite, as well as Rocket Racing and Festival, which both released on February 7, 2024.

  • Fortnite players call for “peak” feature to return to game – Dexerto

Fortnite players call for “peak” feature to return to game Epic GamesFortnite players claim they want this certain missing QoL feature back to help them change skins easily. Since Fortnite’s launch, the game has been adding more and more features to improve players’ experience. Whether that be certain settings, QoL updates, or UI changes, Fortnite in 2024 looks a lot different compared to 2017 due to these changes. However, certain additions are not always welcomed by fans. One prominent example is the Locker UI, which has become quite a hot topic, with some players claiming that it’s hard to navigate and lacks certain features. Regarding the game’s Locker, there’s also a particular feature that’s been missing from the game and players are begging for devs to add it back. That feature is none other than the Locker button that’s usually shown when leaving a match. This feature lets players immediately head to their Locker and change their appearance, as opposed to having to go back to the lobby first. So far, players have been uniting in an X post, wishing for this change to come back. “I wish Fortnite would add the locker button back to the game,” wrote one user, with an image of the old feature attached to the post. The majority of players agreed in the comments. “YES! And the ability to fully change your character, rather than just select presets!” one person replied. Meanwhile, another person wrote, “[Forreal] that was peak.” “I miss that option. Searching for skins just to get interrupted by the loading screen. Then could get this option in-between games,” mentioned another. “Facts! It’s kinda long having to go all the way back to the lobby all the time,” another chimed in. Despite most players begging for this button to be added, some pointed out that it’s likely removed due to bugs. Though it’s unclear if this feature will return, looks like players will just have to navigate from the main lobby first to get to their Locker in the meantime.

  • Fortnite players call for major change to “dumb” Shakedown mechanic – Dexerto

Fortnite players call for major change to “dumb” Shakedown mechanic Epic GamesThe Fortnite community has called on Epic Games to change one of their newest features, the ‘Shakedown’, after experiencing some frustrating issues. Season 2 of Fortnite Chapter 2 introduced a ton of new features into the game, including weapons, skins, and more. One of the most interesting additions was the Shakedown feature, which allows players to pick up enemies and NPC agents and ‘interrogate’ them to find out the locations of chests, fellow henchmen, and other players. At first, this proved to be incredibly useful as it allowed players to track down a whole squad, but it has now turned into a frustrating issue. Reddit user VanDenTopHeavy shared a clip of a shakedown on Feb 24, summarizing what’s wrong with the feature in it’s current form. The problem with Shakedowns breaks down into two key issues. First off, it’s quite a lengthy animation that can be canceled, so it leaves players incredibly vulnerable. This wouldn’t be a huge issue by itself, as it would just mean that you have to ensure you’re in a safe place before doing it. However, the second, and biggest, problem is that the shakedown button is the same as picking up weapons. This means that if you’ve just downed someone and need to quickly grab their gun to continue a fight, you’re more than likely to inadvertently perform the shakedown action, wasting time and possibly getting killed. To top things off, the feature itself does not have a key bind in the game’s settings, meaning players can’t manually change it. Most users called for Epic to just make the animation cancellable, with comments like “Or they could just have it be cancelable” and “Should just make it so you can cancel somehow” filling the Reddit thread. While others simply put the blame on the devs. “Sometimes I wonder if Epic devs are a bit dumb or if it’s with purposes,” one said. Epic have not yet commented on the issue, although they no doubt have their hands full dealing with everything that came with the release of Season 2. For now, fans will just have to do their best to play around the issue, and hope that the next patch will offer some sort of fix.

  • Fortnite players call for Gordon Ramsay to be added to the game – Dexerto

Fortnite players call for Gordon Ramsay to be added to the game Epic GamesFortnite is known for collaborations within their game, and we’ve seen some incredible ones over the years. But, players are calling for Epic to add arguably the world’s most popular chef Gordon Ramsay as well. We’ve seen some absolutely stellar collaborations within Fortnite over the years, they have pushed the mold for what games can do with other media genres, having multiple partnerships with companies such as Marvel and the NFL. It seems that with every week that goes by now, Epic is adding a new skin as part of their ICON series into the game, and Fortnite fans on Reddit are calling for an explosive persona to be added into the game to receive his own skin. Fortnite fans want Gordon Ramsay In a post on the official Fortnite subreddit, a question was posed to members of the community asking which collaboration they would most want to see added into the game. Taking us and everyone else, by a bit of a surprise, the top comment on this post was Gordon Ramsay, with a total of 180+ upvotes at the time of writing. This idea is undoubtedly intriguing for various reasons, Gordon Ramsay is arguably the world’s most renowned chef, mainly due to this aggressive personality on TV. Appearing in shows such as Hell’s Kitchen, Masterchef, and Kitchen Nightmares, and more memes than we can count, the 54-year-old isn’t afraid to tell you how he’s feeling, or how the food actually tastes, and his presence in Fortnite is something a lot of players would probably happily accept. The best part about this Reddit post is that we could actually see Epic come up with something revolving around Gordon Ramsay sometime in the near future. They are a company after all, that constantly pushes what they can add into their game, and we saw this during Season 7 with the addition of aliens. In the meantime, we’ll have to wait and see if fan’s wishes comes true in the next batch of ICON series skins Epic adds into the game. Be sure to let us know what collaboration you would like to see from the team over at Fortnite.

  • Fortnite players call for LTM u-turn in future updates: “No end in sight” – Dexerto

Fortnite players call for LTM u-turn in future updates: “No end in sight” Epic GamesFortnite players are begging Epic Games to change the way they approach Limited Time Modes in their future updates by bringing back a classic feature. Limited Time Modes in Fortnite give players alternate game modes to enjoy the battle royale’s engine in other ways. Games like Disco Domination, Teams of 20, and Team Rumble were all focused on the battle royale aspect. While Epic Games has plenty of BR LTMs, players are beginning to worry, as they feel that they are now only focused on releasing Creative LTMs. Fortnite players want BR LTMs instead of Creative Epic Games’ Fortnite has been out for almost 5 years and has changed its method toward implementing new game modes for its players. A Reddit post by ‘FNInternetExplorer’ mentions how back in the older days, Fortnite received “Battle Royale LTMs.” Now they are claiming the devs are only releasing Creative LTMs which are less enjoyable. One Redditor said, “They just keep pushing those creative maps. They think we prefer them over LTMs.” While another added, “Creative maps are 99% trash and copy & paste. One hour or more modes before the game can end.” Players believe that the devs are trying too hard to throw this agenda on them and fear there is “no end in sight.” “I’m tired of Creative LTMs. I get they wanna show off maps made by the community but come on that’s no reason to just drop original LTMs.” These original ones, include Disco Domination, 50v50, Food Fight, and others. While Fortnite patch 19.10 is set to release on January 18, unfortunately, players won’t be getting a BR LTM. So fans will need to keep petitioning and hope their voices are heard so Epic brings back this classic feature.

  • Fortnite players call for “gimmick” weapons with engaging mechanic to return – Dexerto

Fortnite players call for “gimmick” weapons with engaging mechanic to return epic gamesWhile Fortnite has tons of weapons, players want these “gimmick” weapons to return due to their “engaging” mechanic that offers a different playstyle than usual. Every season, Fortnite introduces new weapons and items to the Battle Royale while occasionally bringing back the ones from the past. This helps shake things up in the game, as it often leads to a different meta depending on the loot pool available that season. While that’s the case, this also means that your favorite weapon in the season won’t always be around forever. There might come a time when they’ll eventually get vaulted, and nobody knows when they’ll be coming back. Regarding this, Fortnite players have gathered in a Reddit thread to discuss which weapon they want back in the game. One of them are the Chrome weapons introduced in Chapter 3, Season 4. For the uninitiated, these aren’t like most weapons you’d find in the game. Other weapons are set in a certain rarity when you loot them. Chrome weapons, however, initially belong to the Uncommon rarity when you first pick them up. Here’s the catch. As you deal more damage with these weapons, you can upgrade them to a higher rarity. So, for example, even though you pick up an Uncommon EvoChrome rifle at the start of the match, you’ll likely end up with a Mythic one at the end of the game – assuming you’re getting kills and enough damage. Since they were first introduced, no other weapon has had the same mechanic as Chrome weapons, and now players want them back. One user claimed they’re “amazing” to which another replied, “Genuinely miss them. The progression of making them stronger made me play more aggressively and made me a better player. They were solid weapons.” Another user wrote: “I hate how they were a gimmick to that specific season and not a returning weapon. Changing rarity as they got more damage was so engaging. That season as a whole had great mechanics I just didn’t like the map all that much at the time.” Meanwhile, another user said they were “a great equalizer for playstyles.” They explained, “You had to use them to level up or kill someone and get theirs. You couldn’t just camp, get lucky, and find a Mythic.” “Epic needs to add more weapons like that,” one chimed in. Fortnite is known to bring back past weapons, so there might be a chance we’ll see this weapon return in the future. For now, players can look forward to welcoming the next season with a new live event in the game.

  • Fortnite players call Epic “greedy” for selling two similar emotes in Item Shop – Dexerto

Fortnite players call Epic “greedy” for selling two similar emotes in Item Shop Epic GamesFortnite players are calling out Epic Games for selling two similar-looking emotes separately in the Item Shop. Here’s what they said. Fortnite cosmetic items are among the most sought-after assets in the video game world, due to their rarity, worth, and likeness to real-life pop culture inspirations. Whether it’s cosmetic skins of legendary movie figures like Luke Skywalker, The Terminator, or the most recent collaboration with music sensation Lady Gaga, these goods are always popular among gamers and fans. Apart from skins, emotes are equally popular since they include dance moves and actions inspired by social media trends, music videos, or even certain TV series and films. While Fortnite has hundreds of emotes, it is highly unusual that two emotes do the same action. Unfortunately, Epic introduced a brand new Jubi Slide emote in the in-game Item Shop that is eerily identical to an existing Fortnite emote known as Side Shuffle. After seeing the listing in the shop, some players gathered to call Epic “greedy” and accused them of using “cash-grabbing tactics”. Fortnite players claim being “scammed” with similar Item Shop emotes Fortnite players are calling out Epic Games on social media platforms such as X and FortniteBR subreddit for releasing a new emote called Jubi Slide worth 500 V-Bucks, which is surprisingly identical to the existing Side Shuffle emote with different music and a slight change in movement. An X user named Happy Power said, “It’s pretty lame that Epic is reusing the same emote just with a different song, and selling it full-priced.” Similarly, a Reddit user named GustavoGmmr wrote, “The New Jubi Slide is literally a scam. It’s the same emote as Side Shuffle, and only changes the song, and Icon.” Players with similar thoughts turned in their comments with one such user saying, “Same, could really use a refund ticket right about now.” Another user argued, “This feels like a situation where a refund ticket shouldn’t even be needed. This is on them this time.” Shortly after Fortnite Status X account posted where they wrote, “We’ve removed the Item Shop row containing the Jubi Slide Emote. We’ll circle back once we’ve taken a close look at it.” With this announcement, players were relieved to hear that Epic did realize their mistake and ultimately decided to remove the controversial emote altogether from the game. While this is not the first time Epic has removed cosmetics shortly after the release, players have been quite vocal about this season’s Item Shop for a number of obvious reasons.

  • Fortnite players call for changes to health system in Pop-Up Cup tournaments – Dexerto

Fortnite players call for changes to health system in Pop-Up Cup tournaments Fortnite players have ran into an important problem in the game’s Pop-Up Cup tournament mode that is leading to players asking Epic Games to step in a fix the issue. The Pop-Up Cup rules were introduced with patch v6.30 on November 14 as an experimental mode that rewards players for engaging in more firefights. Epic Games is now being asked to come up with a solution for a Pop-Up Cup tournament issue that revolves around players not getting their health regen after killing a player. In Pop-Up Cup events a player is given 50 health, or 50 points of shield if on max health, for each kill they earn. Team Liquid star Ryan ‘Chap’ Chap was one of the first players to run into the issue during a game where he was dealt 99 damage by a player he has just downed, but since the player bled out and wasn’t directly eliminated by Chap, he got no health back whatsoever. In another instance, pro player Anthony ‘ZexRow’ Colandro downed a player cleanly, but didn’t get credit for the kill since the player disconnected before he could finish the kill. As such, ZexRow didn’t receive the health bonus even though he was the one who knocked the player. Epic Games knew that the implementation of the rules might come with some growing pains, while the mode has already been used for the EU Winter Royale. With an exploit like this gaining publicity, it’ll be interesting to see if Epic Games makes some changes before the North American iteration of the competition set to take place December 11-12.

  • Fortnite players call Epic Games “cowards” for de-cakeifying Solid Snake – Dexerto

Fortnite players call Epic Games “cowards” for de-cakeifying Solid Snake Epic Games / Nintendo / KonamiFortnite fans are not pleased with the game’s rendition of Solid Snake, with many calling Epic Games “cowards” for changing one specific physical trait. Fortnite’s Chapter 5 Season 1 is finally here, and despite a fairly rocky launch due to server issues, fans are still excited to jump into the new season. Chapter 5 Season 1 brought with it plenty of new cosmetics, including the ‘gigachad’ Peter Griffin skin, a new LEGO mode, and the promise of Konami’s Solid Snake. Unfortunately, some fans have taken umbrage with the iconic special op’s rendition by Epic Games, with many claiming the developer flattened his butt for no good reason. Fortnite players unimpressed with Solid Snake’s lack of ‘cake’ While Solid Snake’s Fortnite skin is currently unavailable in Fortnite, it is part of the Chapter 5 Season 1 battle pass. As such, players were able to at least get a look at the fictional spy before his official release. Fans were quick to point out that something about his Fortnite skin seemed lacking. “EPIC GAMES ARE COWARDS,” wrote one Fortnite fan on X, who attached a screenshot of Solid Snake facing away from the camera. They also included a comparison of Omni-Man, who also caused a splash among fans for his flat derriere. “I’m immeasurably disappointed,” one player said in reaction to the news, while another said, “Wow they nerfed Snake more than Smash Brothers did.” Wow they nerfed Snake more than Smash Brothers did. — Smashing Kirby (@ASmash_kirby) December 3, 2023 The latter post referencing Snake’s rendition in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which notably toned down his cheeks compared to his debut in Brawl. Other fans also noticed Snake’s lacking physique and made similar jokes online. “OTACON THEY TOOK MY A** I CAN’T SHIT,” another fan joked. While many fans may be disappointed at Snake’s lack of cake in Fortnite, it’s still great to see Konomi’s star make his way to the massively popular battle royale.

  • Fortnite players break Pandora’s Box chains in less than 24 hours – Dexerto

Fortnite players break Pandora’s Box chains in less than 24 hours Twitter: ShiinaFortnite players have broken the chains on Pandora’s Box less than a day after it appeared on the map to progress the season-ending event. The first season of Chapter 5 is coming to a close on March 8 and with it will usher in a new era. Chapter 5’s initial season focused on saving Peely and defeating members of The Society. However, the new season will center around Greek mythology. Fortnite typically teases the upcoming season by making changes around the map. This time earthquakes began happening in different areas and eventually created cracks in the ground. After multiple earthquakes broke open parts of the map, a hand appeared holding a large box surrounded by chains. This would become known as the Pandora’s Box which would have to be open to progress the event. In less than 24 hours, players have broken in and released a hellish tornado. Fortnite Pandora’s Box gets chains broken When Pandora’s Box was unearthed, players quickly discovered they would have to work together to break the chains. While the chains surrounding the box did have health bars, they were much stronger than what players could have anticipated. With a health bar rumored to be upwards of 50 million, it would take a collaborative effort to make a dent in the chains. However, what seemed like a near-impossible task was no match for the Fortnite community. In less than 24 hours since the box appeared, it has now been opened. The initial event was bugged for some players, which revealed the contents of the box early before the chains could be broken. Inside the box is a large orange tornado that lifts players into the air. But now that the box is open, this can be seen by all players. It is unknown what will happen next in the event now that the tornado has been unleashed. However, there are still five days left until the season starts, which means another movement in the event is sure to occur.

  • Fortnite Players Build a Halo Inspired No-Scope Stadium in Playground Mode – Dexerto

Fortnite Players Build a Halo Inspired No-Scope Stadium in Playground Mode A Fortnite squad built a Bounce and Launch Pad filled arena to have a no-scope challenge. Created using Playground mode, the “No-Scope Stadium” video shows off the potential of customizable games inside Fortnite. The four players built the symmetrical, bouncy space and jumped in with Hunting Rifles to secure highlight reel eliminations. The video provides a much different take on Fortnite, turning it into an old school arena shooter. If the action heavy gameplay and symmetrical map filled with ramps reminds you of Halo, that is not a coincidence. ipatso, the creator of the video, replied to a comment on the similarities to Halo’s map building Forge mode. Yup! All of us in this video are OG Halo players and couldn’t agree more. Forge had no boundaries, from utilizing the morph crates into each other glitch to making/playing Saw like maps. If only.. Some of the players would like to see Fortnite’s Playground mode include the ability to save and share their creations, like Halo Forge. Although Epic did not put the ability to save and share in Playground yet, the mode did return with a number of enhanced features that allow videos like ipatso’s to be created. Players can now join separate teams in the middle of the match and voice chat will be unaffected. Aim-assist is also turned on in Playground, making those no-scopes a little bit more manageable.

  • Fortnite players blast “ridiculous” item shop over rotation issues – Dexerto

Fortnite players blast “ridiculous” item shop over rotation issues PinterestFortnite players are blasting the Item Shop over ridiculous rotation issues in the ongoing season. Here’s what they said. Fortnite cosmetics are some of the most valuable digital assets in the video game business, with users constantly purchasing them throughout the year. With the game’s long history of renowned cosmetic collaborations and skin rarities, players have spent numerous V-Bucks in the Item Shop to obtain such items for their lockers. Since its inception, Fortnite has done a daily cycle of cosmetic goods in its Item Shop and has listed certain categories, resulting in a catalog of things for buyers to choose from. In Chapter 5 Season 1, the Item Shop garnered considerable criticism from players, with some disappointed by its new problematic design and others believing that the LEGO and Festival modes destroyed the shop for them. However, as the season comes to a close, users are complaining about the ridiculous shop’s daily item rotations. Here’s what they said about it. Fortnite players call out “ridiculous” Item Shop for rotating only one item A Reddit user pointed out that in the Item Shop reset on March 5, 2024, only one item was rotated which was absurd even for the majority of the community. They wrote, “This is ridiculous. One thing changed and it was in the shop 2 days ago. Wow.” The item in question here is the Evil Plan Icon Series emote which was recently added to the game. Looking closely into the most recent Item Shop reset, Fortnite players had their own thoughts on the matter. One such user said, “The f**k is the point of having a FOMO business model at this point if we know the same s**t is coming back every 2 f**king days.” Another chimed in, “The shop has felt phoned-in for a while now. I shouldn’t be surprised but this is pretty ridiculous.” A third user feels “Shops have been terrible again for a while” which assures their “V-Bucks are safe for a while” as they are “sick of seeing the same things over and over and over again.” “Sorry, but 1 new Emote and then nothing new after that!” they said. Some players criticized Epic Games as the only difference “between yesterday and today is that they removed items. Awesome job Epic.”

  • Fortnite players blast “stupid expensive” TMNT crossover – Dexerto

Fortnite players blast “stupid expensive” TMNT crossover Epic GamesThe long-awaited TMNT crossover is in Fortnite, and while it’s brought quite a few cosmetics, it’s also raised quite a few concerns. Fortnite Chapter 5’s launch made a splash when it arrived, per usual, with its huge suite of gameplay additions and its new Battle Pass featuring the likes of Peter Griffin and Solid Snake. Pretty early in the season, fans discovered bigger things were coming after discovering hidden nods to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Fast forward, and the long-anticipated crossover with the ninjas/pizza enjoyers is finally here, with new quests and cosmetics to earn. However, the crossover is drawing some anger, with fans pointing out key issues with the Item Shop’s pricing strategy. Fortnite players blast TMNT Item Shop pricing Shared to Fortnite’s subreddit, Apprentice_Jedi shared an image of the Master Splinter skin. As part of the crossover, players can purchase the Turtle’s teacher from the Item Shop for 1500 V-Bucks. While that seems rather harmless, Apprentice_Jedi points out that players only receive the skin, a LEGO variant, and a Back Bling for 1500 V-Bucks. Players can purchase the staff separately, but that’ll cost an additional 800 V-Bucks since there’s no bundle option. “This is more than an individual Ninja Turtle and the entirety of April’s Bundle which includes significantly more items. 2,300 for three items is crazy,” Apprentice_Jedi said. Many others chimed in with similar thoughts: “Dude, it’s been like this for a while, and it is very unacceptable. I don’t really buy stuff I would before anymore.” After agreeing with how “lame” the cane being sold separately is, one player replied with their lore-accurate alternative: “I will probably just use Mikey’s nunchucks with him to make it lore-appropriate with how Splinter defeated Shredder in the first film.” The other issue others have noticed is the TMNT Instrument Bundle costing a whooping 3000 V-Bucks. “30 dollars for the music set that’s not worth it at all sell them for 300 each like wraps that’s basically what they are,” one player reflected. Rocket Racing was also blasted for a similar issue as $40 car skins debuted with the mode’s launch.

  • Fortnite players blast lack of Marvel skins for the one Season that needs them – Dexerto

Fortnite players blast lack of Marvel skins for the one Season that needs them Epic GamesMarvel is once again the big hook for a headline Fortnite update and players have wasted no time questioning the lack of aptly-themed cosmetics to accompany Chapter 5 Season 4‘s release. Pointing out their absence in a heavily upvoted thread on Reddit, one player criticized Epic’s decision to reintroduce “sweat” skins with the store’s usual refresh, adding, “I want Marvel characters for the Marvel season, bro.” The complaint came despite this Season’s Battle Pass containing unlockable skins for War Machine, Mysterio, Doctor Doom, and more. However, older, sought-after outfits not seen for months or even years have yet to return. Responses to the thread’s author took the opportunity to call out which superhero duds they wanted to be unvaulted. “Bro give me f**king Spider-Man, please. I don’t care about Nick Eh 30 or sweat skins,” one stressed, while another questioned why they had to wait for anticipated releases such as the Iron Spider skin. “I’ve been waiting for the shop reset every day for that Iron Spider skin so I can instantly buy the whole bundle.” “Dude I just want Ghost Rider and Venom to come back. Is that too much to ask for?” The requests continued. While Epic’s plans for reprised cosmetics going forward aren’t known, Chapter 5 Season 4 has only just begun. It’s likely, though not guaranteed, that Marvel threads out of rotation for a long time will make their return over the next two months. Until then, there’s still plenty of superhero-themed content available in-game. Gwenpool and Iron Man’s bunker are two hunts worth partaking in immediately after jumping from the Battle Bus. Meanwhile, there are an abundance of Marvel Easter Eggs scattered across Chapter 5 Season 4’s map. • Fortnite players blast Epic for “unfair” Paradigm skin situation – Dexerto

Fortnite players blast Epic for “unfair” Paradigm skin situation epic gamesThe Fortnite community erupted after the rare Paradigm skin briefly returned to the game, with some players calling the situation “unfair.” The Fortnite community was shocked to see an extremely rare skin return to the game on August 7. Paradigm, previously seen nearly 1,700 days ago in Season X, arrived in the Item Shop out of nowhere. Of course, given the situation, some players who were lucky enough to log in during that specific time window immediately snatched the skin. Initially, Epic planned to remove the skin from recent purchases’ locker as it was unintentional. But not long after, they stated that those who bought the skin could keep it and even get their V-Bucks refunded. Following the situation, many players who didn’t get the chance to cop her skin couldn’t help but blast Epic’s change of mind in a Reddit thread. According to one user, if players can keep the skin, Paradigm should be brought back in the Item Shop to “give everyone a fair chance.” “The only reason they pulled it so quickly was because it was a mistake and they intended to take it away from everyone. Now, because they have decided not to, they can’t punish the rest of the people who didn’t have a chance to log on and buy it.” Additionally, players mentioned that this kind of situation just leads to “selectively rewarding some people while punishing others,” hence they demanded devs to put her back in the shop. In the comments, many others agreed with this take. Some even pointed out players who would gatekeep the skin even when they didn’t have it before the incident. “In EU, shop resets happen at 2 AM, no one is awake at this time so that is really unfair,” replied one user. “Good ol’ ‘F**** you, I got mine,’” one user wrote. Many players also demanded that the skin should just be given free to everyone. “The worst part is that the people who grabbed her will be getting her for free since their V-bucks will be returned. Doesn’t that mean everyone should get her for free? Lol. What a joke,” commented one user. “I mean out of the whole thing the scummiest thing is they are apparently refunding the purchasers? Why?!? Huh?!?! If they refund the V-Bucks, they should remove the skin purchased with them or give the skin to all for free,” one chimed in. It’s unknown whether or not something like this will happen again in the future, but for now, Epic has stated that future Battle Pass cosmetics may return to the Item Shop after a certain period.

  • Fortnite players blast Epic’s approach to “exclusivity” of old skins – Dexerto

Fortnite players blast Epic’s approach to “exclusivity” of old skins Epic GamesFortnite players have had enough of Epic Games not re-releasing certain old and rare skins, as players worry they may never return. Fortnite’s skins and cosmetics have long been a hot topic in the community. Every season brings a wealth of brand-new additions, while some previous skins even make a return. However, despite a few additions being praised, over the past few seasons, players have become increasingly frustrated with “trash” skins and cosmetics. Some have even gone as far as to claim that Chapter 5’s huge LEGO collab has “killed” the Item Shop. Now, some players have hit out at the way Epic Games handles old skins that they missed out on at the time and that have never returned. Fortnite players slam Epic for “never” re-releasing old rare skins Fortnite player imalonexc expressed their frustrations with the state of skins in the game: “The exclusivity of cosmetics is going to be crazy in like 5+ years. “Sorry, you can’t have that skin, it was in a crew pack 10 years ago. But here’s Morty (not Rick though) and also Galaxy Scout for the low price of only $20 worth of V-Bucks for the greatest and most detailed skin ever.” One player stated: “I’m so bummed Eren Jaeger came out during a time I wasn’t playing.” As the general issue revolved around certain desired skins not being re-released into the Item Shop, yet only appearing for a short period of time and then seemingly gone forever. “The problem with Fortnite, like most live service games, it’s a snooze you lose economy. The reward for playing constantly and never missing anything is those rare one-time items… It’s the FOMO that drives everything. It’ll never change. If it ever does, the OGs will riot.” Others called for Epic Games to implement features into the game that allow players to trade/transfer skins with each other. “The fact that Epic hasn’t implemented a market to buy and sell skins within the game and take a cut of the transaction price is mind-boggling. Imagine the Chapter 1 accounts out there that nobody is using,” one player added. Whether you are an OG or experienced player who dreads the thought of players getting their hands on your rare and classic skins, or you too would like to get skins and cosmetics you have missed out on, there is an argument for both cases. However, Epic Games has not provided any information to suggest that there will be any major feature changes added as part of the Item Shop or Battle Pass. These have only had minor changes since their introduction. As well as this, when Epic did finally re-release the classic Skull Trooper skin, they were famously hit with heavy backlash from veteran players.

  • Fortnite players blast Chapter 5 Season 3 as the “worst” ever – Dexerto

Fortnite players blast Chapter 5 Season 3 as the “worst” ever FortniteAs Fortnite approaches its next chapter, players share their thoughts about how it feels like to play in Chapter 5, Season 3. In the beginning, there was a lot of hype surrounding Fortnite’s Chapter 5, Season 3. Not only did the game announce a Fallout collab, but it also provided a mini live event building up to welcome the new season. Though when the season finally began, it’s no secret that many were devastated by the new car meta nobody saw coming. Add an “overpowered” weapon to the list, and players can’t help but voice their frustrations regarding the state of the current chapter. In a Reddit thread discussing the community’s opinion of this season, many players have claimed they didn’t enjoy Chapter 5, Season 3, to the point that some have even blasted it as the “worst” season ever. One user wrote: “It’s trash, the worst season I’ve ever played. I’ve been playing BR since season 3, but I’ve been playing FN since day 1 with STW. To me, the weapons are horrible, the map and POI are uninteresting, and there is too much focus on vehicular combat. I fell in love with FN the shooter, not Vigilante 8.” “Was fun for like the first 3 days. Then it just was the worst season to date. Just a bad chapter,” commented another user. One user claimed that it “was fun until Magneto gloves changed the meta,” to which another replied, “Right when I thought they balanced it well, they added those damn gloves lmao.” “Worst season I’ve ever played by a mile, only the introduction of Reload made me not delete the game,” one said. Meanwhile, some players mentioned how the Fallout collab felt “underwhelming”. One of them pointed out that the game not releasing Fortnite characters wearing the vault suit is “both surprising and stupid”. With that in mind, the next season of Fortnite is fast approaching. According to rumors, this will be a Marvel season. Only time will tell what kind of meta it will introduce to the game.

  • Fortnite players blame Drum Shotgun for ruining Season OG’s final days – Dexerto

Fortnite players blame Drum Shotgun for ruining Season OG’s final days Epic GamesDrum Shotgun is the latest weapon to be unvaulted with the recent Fortnite hotfix. However some players are now blaming the weapon entirely for ruining the final days of Season OG for them. Here’s what they had to say about it. Season OG of Fortnite is drawing to a close, and players are preparing to bid farewell once more to the game’s iconic Chapter 1 island. The recent season has garnered significant attention online as it has seen its highest number of concurrent users ever and return of former streamers that have come out of retirement to play it. Players were able to drop once more in iconic POIs like Retail Row and Paradise Palms while wielding classic weapons like the Pump Shotgun, Assault Rifle, Minigun, and more in a Battle Royale match thanks to this season’s updates. Up until the v27.11 patch, which introduced weapons from Seasons 9 and X to the island, players were treated to a new weapon unlock every week. The most overpowered weapon in the game, the Drum Shotgun, was also included in the hotfix along with the meteor and the unvaulted Ballers. Some players feel that the weapon’s addition ruined their last few days of Season OG, despite the fact that it is well-known for its high rate of fire and ability to deal significant damage against opponents. Fortnite players feel Drum Shotgun is annoying in Season OG A Reddit user named LeOsaru posted an image of the Drum Shotgun after the v27.11 hotfix was released and challenged others to, “Say something nice about this gun, because I can’t”. The user then added his thoughts on how they find the weapon annoying in Season OG as they had enjoyed the season so far before it. Other users jumped on the discussion and mostly agreed. One such user said, “The ‘f*** off’ gun. The moment you start shooting, they decide that an engagement might not be the best idea.” Another chimed in, “I love it, but it feels stronger when other people use it against me.” A third added, “There are more players that rush / chase just for one kill this season. It’s honestly atrocious to the point where I’m getting more aggressive with my gameplay.” A fourth commented, “Nice thing: It will be gone soon.” While players are gearing up for the Chapter 4 finale Big Bang live event, check out our guide on how to join it and timings across your respective regions.
