In November of last year, an OG Fortnite player revealed they had randomly received various rare Chapter 1 skins after starting up Fortnite years later. Now, a similar situation has happened in Chapter 5 Season 3 according to some Fortnite players on Reddit, with multiple players reporting they were given rewards for challenges from several seasons ago. One player asked: “Did anyone else just get this skin for no reason? I thought it was gone a long time ago.” Their accompanying screenshot showed they had received the Underworld Desdemona skin, which was a reward from the expired Coldest Circles Quests in Chapter 4 Season 2. “The ability to purchase it was limited time. The challenges stayed until you finished them,” a player responded. However, the OP soon shut this down: “Yeah, but I didn’t even play the game when the skin came out that’s why I’m confused.” “I got this skin for free a while ago as well. Dunno why. I think it was cause I came back to the game after a long break. I don’t personally like the skin so there’s zero chance I bought it,” another stated. Meanwhile, another player claims they were been gifted 200 V-Bucks from Epic on the same day. “Congratulations! You earned 200 V-bucks from all your hard work!” Among the sea of jokes from the community regarding the V-Bucks that it was literally because of their “hard work,” many players suggested different reasons for how this could have happened. “Either a Lobby Track got converted into a free jam track, you bought something that Epic reduced the price of and they gave you back the difference, or you genuinely just randomly got it,” one player speculated. Another suggested: “Or maybe if you owned Rap Boy? But I owned Rap Boy and got nothing so I don’t know.” Epic revealed the Eminem skin was removed from several Lockers a few days prior due to a bug. Others pointed out the Silver Shield emblem meant it related to old unclaimed free Battle Pass tier rewards. “That’s a free Battle Pass symbol on the left side, did you leave two sets of V-Bucks you could’ve claimed but didn’t last season and this is your first time logging in this season?” In regards to the explanations, a player echoed the thoughts of many: “It would be great if Epic Games were better at communicating with us. Even though there were huge levels of hype surrounding the start of Fortnite Chapter 2, players had been pretty starved of content in season one compared to previous years. Many fans – both causal and well-known – spoke out about the issue before Epic dropped the surprise news about the game moving to Unreal Engine’s Chaos physics system, marking one a major change to what players have come to know. However, while Epic tries to work out the kinks with the new system, players are encountering plenty of game-breaking issues. On February 6, Reddit user Vexinal showcased a video from one of their recent solo games where they had been traveling across the land using a boat. Now, earlier in Chapter 2, this had been no issue – even though the boats work much better while on the water. Yet, as Vexinal used one to blow open a part of a house so that they could start looting, it was the start of some issues. After trying to hop back into the boat, the Redditor found themselves only going downwards – phasing right through the floor of the house and they start floating out of the map. However, it wasn’t exactly instant death that greeted them. Instead, they were given a brief chance to swim about before the game eliminated them in pretty spectacular but buggy fashion. Now, with the launch of any new engine or physics system, there are going to be bumps along the way and Epic have seemingly already been made aware of issues with boats – responding to a number of other wild issues. How long it takes for everything to get fixed, though, is a different story altogether and fans will no doubt be hoping that it doesn’t take too long.

I would appear that those new skins, which were added to the game as part of the ongoing Halloween theme, are far more convincing than they originally appear. Especially when used in conjunction with the new T-Pose emote. In fact, they’re so convincing that players are employing a new strategy that sees them fool their opponents into thinking that they are genuine scarecrows dotted around the map. In a post on Reddit titled ‘Don’t mind me… just your average scarecrow Halloween decoration’, ‘ImMarksman’ showed himself using the Straw Ops skin and T-Pose emote while players ran past him for 20 seconds. Eventually he breaks character, pulls out his weapon, and kills two players before they even know what hit them! He’s not the only one, though, as ‘ANattyLight’ found similar success using the Hay Man outfit in fatal fields and tricking an opposing player into thinking he was a genuine scarecrow watching over the crops: The strange new strategy is, of course, going down a storm with members of the Fortnite community, with one Redditor saying: “The entire shop today was made just for this video to be a thing.” The developers are bound to find it hilarious that the new cosmetic items are being used in such a way, but we’re not entirely sure how we feel about being as easy to trick as the average crow…

Speaking of which, fans in a Reddit thread have brought up one issue with one Marvel skin introduced in a past chapter. Unlike most Fortnite skins, the Venom cosmetic is labeled age-restricted in the game, meaning you can’t use it in certain game modes. One user mentioned that Venom was “marked as a 12+ skin” in Fortnite “for some dumb reason” despite the character being loved by kids and grownups alike. Meanwhile, earlier today, Fall Guys, “a 3+ game”, announced it’ll introduce a similar Venom skin in the multiplayer platformer. “How is it fair that a game designed to be safe and perfect for children gets Venom completely unrestricted, yet Fortnite, a game made for teens, has him not only restricted to 12+ experiences but also unable to receive a Lego-style because of this, despite having several appearances in Lego media in the past?” A lot of players in the comments were baffled as to why this is the case with Venom’s skin as well. “Venom and carnage, not for use in under T things. Fortnite players claim Ballistic Shield is impossible to beat A Reddit user named ItsThatGoatBoy posted their thoughts on the Ballistic Shield item by saying, “To those saying ‘just pick up an AR to deal with the Ballistic Shield!’, I had this man dead to rights, 30 HP remaining and he whips out the ‘NUH UH’ (shield) and completely ignores a total of 435 damage.” In the clip shared with the comment, the player rushed an opponent using their Grapple Blade and kept maintaining pressure on them. Once they got close enough, the user took out their weapon and started shooting at the opponent. To their surprise, the enemy equipped a Ballistic Shield that was effective in blocking lethal Striker AR shots. Looking at the clip, players called out the item for being indestructible and claimed they were done fooling around with it. One such player said, “I’ve yet to get someone else’s shield to stagger even when spraying the hell out of them. I’ve had mine stagger only twice. Ever. I don’t know if it requires shooting a certain area necessarily, but I can definitely say it doesn’t seem to be working as intended. And if it’s ‘currently working as intended’, I have little faith in Epic.” Another chimed in, “Ballistic shield sponging like 14 bullets from a gold AR. Fortnite players are still finding the vaulted Infinity Blade in-game Despite Epic Games issuing a public apology and saying that the Infinity Blade had been vaulted from Fortnite, some players are still finding the sword. Clips of the Infinity Blade have surfaced online and players were shocked to see the Infinity Blade back in action after its removal from the game on December 14. Footage seems to show players not only wielding the sword, but taking out their opponents with it as well as if it is still an active weapon. One player, T4K_RoNaL, even decided to take matters into his own hands and tossed it into the storm, before selecting the crying animation to seal a funny moment. Many of these challenges require players to go to certain POIs and do different activities out in the open. Knowing that, it goes without saying that the experience isn’t always smooth in the Battle Royale. As some players have pointed out in a Reddit thread, many feel that they are too frustrating to complete due to sweaty players killing them in the process. It all started with one player urging others to leave those attempting to complete the challenges alone. Most players seemed to agree, with many confirming a similar experience when doing these challenges. One player claimed it took them 15 games to actually finish the Ares quest, as they either kept getting killed by another player or eliminated the second the boss showed up. “Cerberus was a nightmare cause of the same damn problem,” they said. “Like 3 people started gunning me down when I did the agility. I swear the real quest isn’t completing the challenges; it’s dealing with the players while you complete them.” Meanwhile, another wrote: “I went straight for the agility quest, dropped on it, got one weapon and started running, and some kid instantly pumped me in the head.” “Yes! This aggravates me to no end,” another player agreed. “I’m trying to do the medallion quest now, and other people are shooting the NPC along with me, they run and grab the medallion and take off like a bat out of hell. Ughhh.” However, some others argued that these are bound to happen due to the Battle Royale nature of Fortnite. Of course, these quests are not mandatory, but completing them does give a huge chunk of XP, so it’s worth trying them out when it looks safe.

Fortnite players are not happy with storm change that just kills you instantly Epic GamesFortnite players are unhappy with changes to the storm mechanics in Fortnite Reload that speed up Storm Sickness and cause instant elimination. The storm is a key feature that drives gameplay. It’s a threat that chips away at your health and forces you to move towards the center of the map. In Reload mode, players are used to the storm gradually shrinking, giving them time to strategize and stay within the Safe Zone. But things have taken a dramatic turn with the latest patch. On August 27, Fortnite announced a new patch for Reload that includes loot changes and adjustments to the Storm Circles. Storm Sickness now activates much faster, which means players have less time to find safety. The developers said they will “continue to monitor Storm Circles in Reload and ensure that things remain fun and action-packed.” However, players are not pleased with this update. One player noted on Reddit, “It’s kinda annoying that you just straight up die. You don’t even have a timer, so you can’t know how much time you can stay in storm.” Another pointed out, “It doesn’t go away. So if you touch the storm for a second, even at 100 health, you instantly die.” Some players think the change goes too far. “I get preventing heal offs, but that’s a bit extreme,” one said. “Something like a fifteen tick, or twenty tick is a little tamer if you want to go for extreme, but still let players access the storm for a few seconds.” A “healoff” strategy is when players camp in the storm, chugging health kits to outlast opponents in the endgame. Fortnite players are quitting Ranked already due to one major issue Epic GamesFortnite entered the ring with other battle royales such as Apex Legends and Warzone by introducing a Ranked mode. However, players are already abandoning ranked in favor of normal matches. It’s become common practice for battle royales to introduce ranked game modes. Respawn completely overhauled Apex Legends Ranked in May by improving matchmaking and removing splits. During the same month, Warzone 2 released its own competitive game mode. Giving players something to play for and work toward is a great way to incentivize more playtime. But that doesn’t mean it works for every game. Despite introducing Ranked Play, Warzone 2 player count numbers have plummeted. Warzone’s dip doesn’t all fall on the shoulders of Ranked Play, but Fortnite is also experiencing growing pains with its competitive mode. Fortnite players slam long Ranked queue times Epic Games asked players on Twitter what their ranks are after the mode’s first two weeks in action. Instead of sharing their rank, community members complained about the mode being ruined by long wait times for matches. 100 Thieves Co-Owner Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop responded: “Unfortunately like many people have said, we’ve all stopped playing due to long queue times.” CouRage suggested that the mode being on one server would help, but his suggestion was met with pushback. Players argued that matches would feel terrible playing with high ping against users from other regions. And some argued that building would be nearly impossible with a poor server connection. The streamer wasn’t alone in his struggles, however. A second player added: “Stopped playing cause it takes too long to get matches.” Fortnite streamer FaZe Replays also claimed: “I’ve been struggling to get into games ever since about a week now.” Replays believes that the long queue times may be a glitch, and he urged the developers to look into the issue.

The highlight of this mode is that, aside from being able to get your hands on some of the OG weapons, the reboot mechanic has been tweaked. Unlike Battle Royale and Zero Build, players can be rebooted without having to collect their Reboot Cards and using a Reboot Van. And so far, it’s clear that many are enjoying the OG experience all over again – seeing that Fortnite Reload managed to surpass other game modes in terms of concurrent players. That said, despite the thrill and excitement that this mode brings, some players have pointed out one major issue with it in a Reddit thread. “It’s good but why on earth there’s full squads of purple skull troopers and superhero skins doing quad edits in it I have no clue, don’t even get people like that in ranked,” mentioned one player, referring to sweats who have been known to use superhero skins. “I wish it had SBMM because I have zero chance in every fight,” another user chimed in. Despite its success, Season OG marks the shortest season in Fortnite history. The event started on November 3 and will conclude on December 2 when a meteor will strike the map. The OG season also brought back popular streamers to the game, including familiar faces like Dr Disrepect, TimTheTatman, and Tfue. However, it was CourageJD that started the conversation surrounding the number of bots. Fortnite bots have taken over lobbies Unlike other multiplayer games like Call of Duty and Warzone, unranked Fortnite doesn’t have skill-based matchmaking. This leads to more bots in lobbies, but players wonder how many get into every lobby. “My biggest takeaway after talking to many returning Fortnite OG players during this last month is that many of them hated how many bot lobbies they had,” said Courage on Twitter/X. “With 5.5 million concurrent players, it just doesn’t make sense that so many AI are in lobbies. Fortnite is one of the most popular games in the world, and with Season 10 drawing to a conclusion, many players are hopping into the Battle Bus in search of some final Victory Royales before the big Season 11 update, which is scheduled for the week beginning October 14. Many who have jumped into the game are reporting issues though, complaining that they receive hitmarkers for landing bullets accurately on an opponent, but that they aren’t dealing any damage, while others state that on occasion their weapons just refuse to fire. In a Reddit post on October 8, user TheAaronLad stated that he had seen a “major increase in blank shots on all guns,” asking if he was alone in this, and stating that he had hit an opponent with 10 bullets using an Assault Rifle and only two did damage, while a similar situation happened with an Infantry Rifle. “My ping was on 25 or lower both times,” he complained. “It’s happened countless times since I’ve been playing in the last day.” While TheAaronLad was concerned that he was the only one affected by this issue, many other players used his post to share their experience, with many claiming that the problem is worse than ever. Not only did Fortnite OG bring back some of its original landing locations, but it is also slowly adding some of the game’s most popular items. Chug Jugs, Grapplers and Stink Bombs can be found all over the map, but one legendary item seems too easy to find. Players are now complaining about the spawn rate of Port-a-Fortresses. Fortnite Port-a-Fortresses deemed ‘too common’ One Reddit post brought up the issue surrounding the rarity of Port-a-Fortresses in the game. These items, marked as legendary, can seemingly be found in most locations regardless of rarity. “Did Epic forget these are supposed to be the rarest rarity in the game or something,” asked one Reddit user. “Because there’s so many! Every major location after the initial fighting has like 3 or 4 of them popped up, I’ll probably find 2 or 3 of the item myself every game. It’s crazy!” Other commentators beneath the post made jokes regarding the frequency of drops, with some claiming that they have begun ‘throwing them at friends’ instead of carrying them for later in the game. Several well-known map creators had pumped up the community by announcing that they would be recreating the OG Fortnite island soon after the release. When the remakes finally hit the game, however, gamers were left immensely dissatisfied because of the unending bugs and latency that plagued the creator-made UEFN experiences. With how large the piano keys are compared to the size of the in-game character, it’s clear that completing this project was the product of a lot of time and concentration. “I would do it, but this super simple song took me 2 hours to make,” the user wrote on Reddit. Flush Factory, which has been a location on the game’s map since the very first season, has now been replaced by Happy Hamlet. The factory would regularly be seen completely destroyed by gamers for materials, but is now no longer available on the map. The other destinations cut from this new season are Greasy Grove and Viking Village, making way for the incoming Frosty Flights and Polar Peak. But, despite those incoming changes, u/Smithstirini had other ideas. With news breaking that one of their favorite locations was soon going to be destroyed and smashed into by a huge iceberg, Smithstirini built a huge dome around Flush Factory in an attempt to protect it. He posted his project to Reddit on December 6, which will have been deemed unsuccessful when the player downloaded the new Fortnite v7.00 patch. It was not only locations which were removed from the game as a result of the new Season 7 update, though, as six items have also been vaulted. Many ew features have been added to the game as well, with the addition of a brand new X-4 Stormwind fighter jet and several ziplines changing the complexion of Battle Royale mode. Many players have been left impressed with the new content too, sharing their exciting dogfight and zipline clips on social media since the patch went live on December 6.

The Mission set for week eight of Fortnite Chapter 2 revolves around the water, with players asked to dive around the map to complete their weekly challenges. These challenges give players tons of XP and Battle Stars to help rank up their Battle Passes and unlock new cosmetic items to equip in game. However, players trying to complete challenges this week have to be wary of some trolls on the loose, as one player demonstrated. In a video uploaded to Reddit by ‘EastonBryksa’ on November 28, they shared a warning for other players looking to complete their missions — especially the Time Trials at Lazy Lake. As he was dancing around the stream, going from checkpoint to checkpoint, EastonBryksa hit the waterfall at Gorgeous Gorge. However, instead of plummeting into the stream below, he hit a solid wall of wood with others building around the lake. This led to the player’s death without completing the mission, forcing EastonBryksa to load into game again and try to not get found out by trolls. The mission players have to complete for their Battle Pass is the “Complete the swimming time trials at Lazy Lake and East of Hydro 16,” making players use some of the new mechanics in Fortnite Chapter 2. However, some people like in EastonBryksa’s game have exploited this by building across the Gorgeous Gorge in a way that’s impossible to dodge. Their form of torture, specifically, is to emote on them while playing a popular song from Weezer. Fortnite player uses Weezer to play with their downed opponent The clip is not a long one, but it is giving many fans a good laugh. After downing their opponent, the recording player, rocking a shirtless Goku skin, begins to dance over them, all while the sound of Weezer’s “Buddy Holly” plays. Fortnite player suggests creative way to block sweaty skins Epic GamesA Fortnite player has proposed a concept that would enable players to hide certain skins, similar to what the game did with emotes. Fortnite recently introduced an option that allows players to block “confrontational” emotes from view through a specific setting. This recent addition has inspired the idea of allowing players to block certain skins from being viewed. The original Reddit post took the same concept from blocking the emotes, except it added the option to block the superhero skins instead of emotes specifically. These superhero skins have plagued Fortnite for several seasons and are considered one of the “sweatier” skins in the game. “If someone’s wearing cool color combinations I dig it but the ones who only wear black /gray are the worst lol.” said one commenter. Most players utilize the customizable feature of superhero skins to fully black them out, which allegedly reduces the hitbox size. Fortnite Player Takes Advantage of the Rocket Launch Party to Set a New Solo Kills World Record A new record for single game kills in Fortnite has been set at 48, but it did not happen the way you might expect. It was not Ninja or Myth with a brilliant display of marksmanship to set the record, rather it was a random person who happened to take advantage of unsuspecting players during the rocket launch viewing party. The rocket launch in Fortnite was a highly anticipated event, due to its potential to change the map significantly. The launch took place from the Evil Lair near Snobby Shores at 1:30 PM EST. For the most part, players watched side by side in a truce for the opportunity to catch the one time launch. A massive platform was even constructed near Snobby Shores for those that wanted an up close look at the spectacle. One player did not get the truce memo, however, and now they stand alone with the single game solo kills record. Elemental_Ray played smart instead of hard, knocking out the viewing platform that 48 players were standing on, eliminating all of them by way of fall damage. No one is sure if Elemental_Ray was planning to ruin the party with the 3000 IQ play all along, or if they are simply a kid that didn’t know an event was about to happen. One thing is certain, pro Fortnite players will have a very hard time beating the new solo kills record and at least 48 people did not get a good look at the rocket launch. As the Mythic Goldfish is so rare, the majority of Fortnite players have never come across one of them, and many don’t even know they exist. Once they realized that it was actually a Mythic Goldfish, their reaction was priceless. Given that there’s supposedly a one in a million chance (that’s 0.0001%) of catching a Mythic Goldfish, theminer325 was understandably overjoyed to stumble upon the rare item, and quickly went about using it to their advantage. “I got the Mythic Goldfish in [an] arena game. To address this, Reddit user ‘Krazyflipz’ proposes that Epic Games should remove all Common rarity weapons from chests and instead have them, just spawn on the floor. “Remove all Common weapons, except Grenades, from chests,” he wrote. “Getting a Common weapon out of a chest feels bad. Chests should guarantee Uncommon or better weapons.” If this change were to be implemented, chests would hold only Uncommon or higher rarity weapons and items, with the exception of Grenades, since they only come as Common items and are powerful enough to warrant being in chests.
