  • Custom Fortnite locker loadouts leaked in Season 2 update – Dexerto

Custom Fortnite locker loadouts leaked in Season 2 update Epic GamesThe Fortnite community might soon be able to save a number of personalized cosmetic loadouts in the battle royale, after locker presets appear to have leaked in the recent Season 2 update. While recent leaks have primarily hinted at upcoming skins and cosmetics, a new scrap of information has slipped through the cracks in the major Season 2 update. Dedicated Fortnite players have been asking for ways to save custom locker loadouts for quite some time and it seems as though their wish might finally be granted in the near future. Rather than having just a single character model to customize while sitting in the lobby, players have long been asking for preset loadout slots. This would allow the community to save a number of different skin and item combinations and quickly swap through them on the fly, as opposed to completely altering the one loadout as players are currently used to. Read More: Every Fortnite Season 2 map change revealed – According to a few lines of code found by prominent Fortnite leaker ‘HYPEX’ after the Season 2 update, such a feature could be right around the corner. I’m kinda late, but Locker Loadouts are coming soon, you can also give the loadout a name and you can favorite loadouts! (the last image is just a concept) pic.twitter.com/IduvZmlHNo — HYPEX (@HYPEX) February 21, 2020 “Locker Loadouts are coming soon,” the popular community member shared. “You can also give the loadout a name and you can favorite loadouts.” The images provided shed light on a few key lines of code that allude to “locker slots, locker names,” and the categories of items that are contained within. From custom dances to pickaxes and gliders, players might soon be able to pick a choose from a few favorite combinations prior to each game. Read More: How to get Deadpool skin Fortnite Season 2 – Attaching a visual mockup from Instagram user ‘jaaaz__,’ the leaker highlighted how the new feature could look in-game as the updated menu might allow players to scroll through a list of previously saved appearances. Instead of sticking to the one character model for the entirety of your next play session, this feature would allow you to spice things up and change the way your in-game avatar comes across each and every match. While there’s no set date as to when the Fortnite community should expect this feature to be introduced, given that various lines of code have already appeared in-game, it’s safe to assume that locker loadouts are right around the corner.

  • Custom Games for Fortnite Won’t Be Here Anytime Soon as Epic Games Provides an Update on Playground Mode – Dexerto

Custom Games for Fortnite Won’t Be Here Anytime Soon as Epic Games Provides an Update on Playground Mode u/Jaguar115An Epic Games employee has responded to questions about custom games coming to Fortnite Battle Royale, confirming that the development team is still working on “Playground Mode” and that it won’t be the custom feature that everyone was hoping for. The Fortnite Battle Royale development team announced that they were working on a LTM named “Playground Mode” in their “State of Development” press release on May 24th. While there is very little information about what Playground Mode will actually do, the developers confirmed that it is their “initial step into what a creative mode looks like in Fortnite” and that it can be used to “practice, strategize, and enjoy yourself”. For competitive players, or just casual players that want to practice and hone their skills, the lack of custom games or party games means that it can be difficult to make the most of their time and the announcement of Playground Mode was met with excitement. Read More: Fortnite Tweets Out Video of Streamer Hitting an Impossible Game-Winning Snipe While Flying in a Shopping Cart – Some players were hoping that Playground Mode would go live in the V4.3 patch on May 25th, and then again in the June 5th V4.3 Content Update, but it looks like we will be waiting for a while longer. Epic Games employee JShredz responded to a question on Reddit on June 4th to say that the development team are “still working on it” but that they needed to make “significant necessary back-end improvements” first. He also confirmed, and explained the current reasoning for, Playground Mode not being available to play offline and used as a practice tool on private servers. Apparently interaction and communication with the servers are “central to how the game is run” which means that the mode won’t run properly if you cut things off from the server. With these bombshells it looks like we could be waiting for a good while longer before fully customizable/private matches are available. This is once again a knock on the ever-growing competitive Fortnite community as tournament organizers, players, and teams continue to have to find work-arounds.

  • Custom controller bindings coming to Fortnite in v6.0 update – Dexerto

Custom controller bindings coming to Fortnite in v6.0 update Epic Games have revealed that controller button customization will be implemented in Fortnite right at the launch of Season 6. ‘AaronAtEpic,’ a senior technical designer at Epic Games, published a post on Reddit in which he announced that custom controller bindings would be available in game right after the release of the v6.0 update on September 27. According to the post, a new ‘custom’ option will be added to the controller configurations section, found on the left side of the controller layout menu in the game’s settings. Players will then be able to select that option and have a wide variety of button customization selections to choose from, allowing them to set up their controller to their exact preferences. Certain selected button assignments will have a ‘hold action’ or ‘double tap action’ designation, making it clear for players when they are customizing their controller layout. The Reddit post also includes several images that show what the new menu and options will look like, so that players will know what to expect once the v6.0 update drops. Aaron did note that this is could be the first of additional phases of what Epic is planning with controller customization. “The idea here is to make a system that is easy to use,” he wrote. “And can be built upon with more functionality in later releases, if needed.” Despite the release of new preset layouts, such as Combat Pro and Builder Pro, players have been asking Epic Games to implement full customization, and their wish is finally being granted. • “Cursed” Fortnite glitch leaves character’s face completely broken – Dexerto

“Cursed” Fortnite glitch leaves character’s face completely broken Epic GamesGlitches are something that can happen from time to time in Fortnite. However, one particular glitch has altered the appearance of one character and left players baffled. While Fortnite is known as one of the most popular games out there, the game is not immune to glitches. For example, one of the most notable glitches recently is being unable to sprint in LEGO Fortnite. A while ago, some players were also met with a glitch that stopped them from building, leaving only the character holding the blueprint. These things can happen occasionally in the game, and while some don’t usually affect everyone, there’s no denying that they can sometimes ruin the experience. Most of the time, they’re just simply annoying to deal with, but recently, one glitch in the game has baffled players due to how “cursed” it is. One player has shared what Bytes, one of the characters introduced in Chapter 3 Season 4, looked like with the “Mask On” variant after the latest update in a clip. Instead of showing his regular expression, viewers are greeted with the character’s dislocated jaw. To make things worse, the glitch didn’t go away even after a while, causing the character’s face to remain in the same bugged state. This discovery, of course, has garnered quite the attention of many other players. One of the top comments said, “Bro had a stroke” to which another replied, “Those are multiple strokes.” Meanwhile, another user poked fun at this situation by saying, “I guess he can’t… Byte?” making a pun out of the character’s name. “Somebody get this guy some water,” another user chimed in. Aside from the jokes, some players couldn’t help but wonder how this glitch could happen in the first place. In one of the replies, a different user said that this could likely be caused by a spaghetti code. Like many other bugged skins, this will probably get patched, but for now, it looks like players should just be patient while waiting for a fix.

  • Custom Controller Bindings Are Finally Coming to Fortnite – Dexerto

Custom Controller Bindings Are Finally Coming to Fortnite An Epic Games employee has confirmed that custom controller bindings for console players will be included in a future update for Fortnite Battle Royale. In a Reddit post, Fortnite’s Senior Technical Designer Aaron Eady confirmed that Epic Games had been working on custom controller layouts for the game, and intended to include the new feature in a future update. In the comment, Eady states that, while they’re aware that the custom bindings have taken a long time, Epic felt it was important to take the time to work on them: “Unfortunately, it’s not a easy thing to go from not having custom bindings to then creating the system to have custom bindings. We do have amazing talent here at Epic that make things look easy sometimes, but something that changes inputs into our game shouldn’t be rushed.” Eady also confirmed that Epic are planning to shorten the length of time players need to hold down the edit button before they are allowed to use the function. Currently, the edit hold timing is 0.25 seconds, but Epic plans to bring that down to 0.2 seconds, and down to 0.15 seconds on the Builder Pro configuration. Read More: Fortnite Monopoly is Coming Soon and It’s More Than Just a Reskin News of these future updates will certainly please fans of the battle royale franchise. Fortnite players have long been calling for the ability to bind certain actions to their controller like PC players are able to with their mouse or keyboard. While there is no set release date for these additions, Eady did mention that they hope to push them out in the next major update to the game.

  • CS:GO pro s1mple outlines two Fortnite Battle Royale features that infuriate him – Dexerto

CS:GO pro s1mple outlines two Fortnite Battle Royale features that infuriate him Epic Games / StarladderProfessional CS:GO player Oleksandr ‘Fortnite Battle Royale The Ukranian is widely considered as one of the best Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players in the world, and has started to play Fortnite Battle Royale as part of his popular Twitch streams. S1mple has been playing the game for less than the week, but some of the game’s mechanics, or lack thereof, are starting to frustrate the Na’Vi AWPer. While playing with professional Fortnite Battle Royale competitor Erikas ‘ErycTriceps’ Vaitkevicius, s1mple was disappointed to hear that he couldn’t change his reticle, and aired his grievances about how the game’s chance loot system means players can get an advantage early on. “In the beginning, the one who’s got the biggest shield is winning, if you know how to shoot,” the Ukranian said. “Of course we can build, but we have no [wood] in the beginning.” Read More: Fortnite Battle Royale v9.10 Content Update Patch Notes – Burst SMG, vaulted weapons and more! – S1mple is also unimpressed with the game’s lack of customizable crosshairs. Upon finding out that everyone is forced to use the same one, he said: “That’s so bad”. For the Na’Vi star, the fact that the settings are locked in Fortnite Battle Royale is a far cry from Counter-Strike where players can adjust and change tiny details like screen resolutions. While CS:GO is the NaVi member’s game of choice, he has proved that his incredible skill transfers from one game to the other, even managing to secure a few wins in his first day on the battle royale title. He still has a lot to learn though, as shown in a hilarious moment when S1mple jumped off a Slipstream without realizing that he needed Glider Redeploy to land safely. While teammate ErycTriceps floated with ease, the Ukranian slammed into the ground and needed his giggling teammate to revive him. With NaVi not currently scheduled to take part in any upcoming tournaments in June, S1mple will have plenty of time to practice on Fortnite Battle Royale before he has to turn his attention back to CS:GO.

  • Creator of fake Fortnite Season 7 trailer reveals how he fooled the entire community – Dexerto

Creator of fake Fortnite Season 7 trailer reveals how he fooled the entire community The infamous creator of the fake trailer for Season 7 of Fortnite Battle Royale has spoken out about his video a day after it went viral online. In a December 3 post on the FortniteBR sub-Reddit, user ‘KiosFR’ took credit for making the video that had fooled the vast majority of the Fortnite community. The video gave a behind-the-scenes glimpse into all the work he put in to making the fake trailer seem authentic, a process which included using in-game green-screens and a vast numerous amount of special effects. There was even a moment where the video shows the user going through the trailer frame-by-frame, which shows just how dedicated he was in producing this impressive work. Despite having been fooled by the trailer, many took to the comments section of this follow-up video to compliment the creator for his efforts, especially since they now realized how much work went into it. On December 2, a video began circling around social media and Reddit that supposedly featured a leaked version of the trailer for the upcoming season in Fortnite. While there were a few who were skeptical about it, the trailer was made expertly enough for the majority of the community to believe that it was legitimate, especially since many were starving for info about the new season. The attention to detail was likely what sold the trailer’s authenticity to fans, especially the fact that it was recorded on a hand-cam or phone off of a monitor to make it look like it was a real leak. The trailer was ultimately debunked as a fan-made farce by Epic Games Community Coordinator Sean Hamilton, but not before it had gone viral online. On December 3, Epic released the first official teaser for Season 7, which is set to start on December 6. The teaser image features a icy blue hooded figure which doubles down as an apparent iceberg or snow mountain, hinting at snow likely coming to the map. • Creative Fortnite fan mocks the Port-a-Fortress with two new crazy concepts – Dexerto

Creative Fortnite fan mocks the Port-a-Fortress with two new crazy concepts A clever Fortnite fan has come up with two hilarious ideas as things that could be added to Fortnite, taking a sly dig at the Port-a-Fortress. The Port-A-Fortress was added to Fortnite Battle Royale during the V5.41 patch that was released on Tuesday, September 18. The Legendary item allows players to throw down a grenade, and have a massive fortress appear around them, protecting them from enemies, and giving the user an immediate base from which to attempt to take out their opponents. Clever Reddit user Emjov took to the Fortnite Battle Royale subreddit to poke fun at the latest addition to the game, designing two new concepts that he believes should be added to the popular battle royale franchise. The first concept item, the ‘Port-a-Stadium’, would allow users to place down a Spiky Stadium, which is currently available in Fortnite’s Playground mode. However, there’s a twist, as a massive tower would spring out of the middle of the stadium, rise up into the sky, just to have a second Spiky Stadium elevated high in the air. The second idea that Emjov had was the ‘Port-a-Tower’, which is essentially lots of Port-a-Fortress items placed on top of each other, creating a massive skyscraper effect into the sky. With Season 6 just around the corner, nobody is quite sure what to expect from the update when it begins on Thursday, September 27. It’s doubtful, however, that the Port-a-Stadium or the Port-a-Tower will make an appearance!

  • Creative Fortnite trick lets you survive huge falls from Helicopters – Dexerto

Creative Fortnite trick lets you survive huge falls from Helicopters Epic GamesFortnite players have uncovered a clever trick that allows you to survive great falls from Helicopters which would otherwise wipe you out of the match. Fall damage can be the most frustrating aspect of any battle royale, especially for Fortnite players considering the towering build structures many of the game’s battles are fought on throughout each match. With the recently introduced Helicopters, it can be easy to blow up in midair and crash to the ground below, wiping out your squad with some serious fall damage. However, a creative trick could let you avoid certain death if timed just right. While the latest vehicle in Fortnite has been put under the microscope since its introduction in the 12.20 patch on March 17, and the community has already discovered a few powerful tricks, the new Helicopters certainly come with their own unique downsides. If players want to safely reach the ground after soaring through the skies, they either have to slowly glide back down, or jump out and land in a body of water. A creative new discovery from Reddit user ‘OpathicaNAE’ adds one more option to the mix, however. When positioned just right, it turns out that you can survive a great fall simply by landing on top of a dumpster. Negating any form of damage upon the impact of landing, you’re able to quickly ‘hide’ in the garbage and transport through to a safe space on the other side. Rather than exploding when touching the ground, this can make for an easy getaway if enemies are trying to shoot your Helicopter down. Read more: Where to find helicopters in Fortnite – While these spots can be quite difficult to make out while soaring through the sky, it can pay great dividends to familiarize yourself with dumpster locations around the map so that you too, can utilize this trick in-game. The tactic might be extremely difficult for full squads to attempt, but it could be just what you need to survive a sticky situation in your next game. Taking full advantage of the new vehicle, another discovery even lets you switch Helicopters to autopilot while you fire away at enemies from the sky.

  • Crazy storm concept in Fortnite could improve competitive matches – Dexerto

Crazy storm concept in Fortnite could improve competitive matches A competitive Fortnite fan has designed a new storm concept, intended to reduce camping and “healoffs” in the late game of competitive matches. While Fortnite is the most watched video game in the world in terms of live streaming, some fans of the more competitive aspect of the game have pointed out the problems with ‘late game’ situations. Recent Summer Skirmish and Fall Skirmish tournaments have highlighted these issues, where the final moments of a game can be tedious to watch, as participants play it safe to secure the victory. This has resulted in what viewers call “healoffs”, where players are not aggressive and rather take shots at each other from distance and the cover of builds, repeatedly taking and inflicting damage, and healing. More: Epic Games announce ‘Support-A-Creator’ event in Fortnite, allowing fans to support favorite content creators – But, without removing all incentive to actually win games, it is difficult to promote more aggressive playstyles in the late game. One creative fan, u/Swahhillie, has devised a ‘Split Storm’ concept, where the safe area would split into four zones, before forcing all players together in a tight final circle. The creator explains the goal is to “Split up stacked lobbies to force smaller, individual engagements. Thereby decreasing late game RNG and third partying.” Another user suggested a possible fix to ‘healoffs’, borrowing from PUBG’s idea, where players are unable to use heals while taking storm damage from the final circle. Epic Games has shown an openness to trying out new mode and storm ideas through Limited Time Modes (LTM). The Blitz LTM for example made storm circles smaller and collapsed faster. Perhaps an LTM could be used to try out varying storm changes, not just speed and size, but also shape and splitting.

  • Crazy Fortnite Ripsaw trick is turning players into the Silver Surfer – Dexerto

Crazy Fortnite Ripsaw trick is turning players into the Silver Surfer Fortnite players have discovered a trick using the new Ripsaw launcher that allows them to glide across dry land like the Silver Surfer. If there’s one thing Fortnite players often ask for more of, it’s mobility options. And as a result, we’ve seen a number of different vehicles and utility items over the years. From hoverboards to chopping carts to giant hamster balls, there’s been no short of wacky movement in Fortnite. And players have found an unintentional way to turn themselves into the Silver Surfer. Yes, the Silver Surfer is actually in Fortnite along with his silver surfboard, but you never really get to ride it on land. That’s where this new trick completes the look allowing players to surf across solid land. Ripsaw trick introduces new “vehicle” The trick was posted by Twitter user Caelum, a Fortnite Creative map builder who has recently been toying with the new Ripsaw weapon. In the video, Caelum uses a Shockwave Grenade to launch themselves into the air before shooting a Ripsaw blade at the ground beneath their feet. When they land on the Ripsaw blade, its hitbox is large enough for them to stand on. This is similar to the hitbox of a rocket or grenade that players have ridden in previous seasons. The sawblade carries the player a considerable distance – at a remarkable speed – before it breaks. Other players commented on the new mechanic dreaming of pulling off sweet eliminations while riding on the back of a metal disk. And with its ability to tear through structures, players really will be able to glide through solid objects like the Silver Surfer. Sadly, the Shockwave Grenade isn’t in Fortnite’s loot pool right now. This doesn’t mean players can’t pull this stunt off, they’ll just need to get a bit of height a different way.

  • Crazy Fortnite Season 6 exploit lets you craft items instantly – Dexerto

Crazy Fortnite Season 6 exploit lets you craft items instantly Epic GamesWhile crafting in Fortnite can normally leave you exposed for a few precious seconds, a new exploit discovered by a player on Reddit allows you to craft your items near instantaneously, allowing you to get back into the fight quicker. Crafting in Fortnite was added with the launch of Season 6. While it’s a bit too early to see how well the community likes the feature, it does allow you to easily make more advanced versions of the weapons through either Primal or Mechanical upgrades. Unfortunately, one of the main problems with the feature is that, unlike the upgrades you can get from the NPCs, you’re left exposed for a few seconds, without any means to defend yourself. Now, a Fortnite player has discovered a new way to eliminate that wait. According to Reddit user Jedisiri21, who previously came up with a way to instantly destroy Slurp Trucks in Season 5, there’s an exploit that allows you to craft weapons at a faster speed. According to them, what you want to do is auto-run, open the crafting menu, attempt to craft and then cancel the crafting animation. After that, the next time you try to craft a weapon, it’ll be faster, as evidenced in the video. Unfortunately, there are a couple of stipulations with this exploit. For one, you still still need all of the items you’d normally need for the crafted weapon, so theres no way to skip out on any of that. Second, the bug seems to be a bit inconsistent. Some parts of the video show that the weapon is crafted almost instantly after you begin the craft, while others show that it takes a few seconds. Of course, given the fact that this is a bug, it’s more than likely only a matter of time before this gets fixed by Epic Games. Even though it’s inconsistent, it does have the potential to give one person an advantage over everyone else so the devs will more than likely want to fix it quickly. Still, until then, you should be able to try this out for yourself. While it may not work 100% of the time, it should help.

  • Crazy Fortnite glitch prevents players from being able to build – Dexerto

Crazy Fortnite glitch prevents players from being able to build Epic GamesA strange new glitch in Fortnite stops players from being able to build or have their teammates build around them. Since the release of Fortnite’s Season 7 on December 6, there have been plenty of new glitches and bugs discovered in-game but this fresh building error might just be the most incredible one we’ve seen yet. The glitch acts like the recently-vaulted Infinity Blade, destroying structures in one fell swoop. However, the only difference here is that there is no blade and there is no swoop. Just a fatal error whilst trying to construct walls and floors. It was showcased during symfuhny’s stream on December 18. The streamer was engaged in a firefight with an opposing player, but was able to get the jump on them as they fell, allowing him to find a kill. However, when his duo partner ‘Dark’ attempted to build around him so that they could heal, the structure was immediately deleted. Symfuhny then attempted to build by himself but saw his walls and floors immediately destroyed by a blue flash – similar to the one that would appear around players who wielded the Infinity Blade. The incredibly powerful sword was recently-vaulted by Epic Games but has been appearing in-game for some players. It’s unknown whether or not this glitch is related to the Infinity Blade but its striking similarity suggests that it just well may be. Read More: Fortnite: Full list of all confirmed in-game bugs and glitches and their workarounds, including SIX issues with X-4 Stormwing – It is not named in the list of known glitches and bugs from the recent game update but its appearance on Symfuhny’s stream should draw some eyes to the error. We’ll have to wait and see if Epic acknowledges the issue and rolls out a hotfix.

  • Cracks starting to appear on Fortnite map after latest earthquakes – Dexerto

Cracks starting to appear on Fortnite map after latest earthquakes The latest series of in-game earthquakes in Fortnite Battle Royale have resulted in massive cracks starting to form in the ground. After the most recent v7.40 update went live on February 14, players noticed that a large crack had formed in the area just southwest of Tomato Temple. The crack is several meters long and looks rather threatening, and it certainly doesn’t seem like it’s going to be the only one we see on the map. Of course, earthquakes had been felt on the map for several weeks now, but this is the first time they’ve caused any visible damage or changes to the map. Here is a video of the crack forming in-game right after massive earthquake, courtesy of Twitter user @Armer10F. HOLY COW! (Credits: @Armer10F) pic.twitter.com/g25rtkhxTX— FortTory – Fortnite Leaks & News (@FortTory) February 14, 2019 While nothing has yet been revealed as to the meaning of these earthquakes, and now this crack, but players are speculating that this all is leading up to an in-game event that will launch the eight Season. This theory seems to be backed up by new audio files that have appeared in the game’s back-end after the launch of v7.40, which have been dug up and leaked by data-miners. These audio files contain sounds for further earthquakes and cracks forming in the ground, and they seem to be much louder than before. New EVENT sound files! This time louder. pic.twitter.com/7V05oDDHvL— FortTory – Fortnite Leaks & News (@FortTory) February 14, 2019 What this all means for the future of the Fortnite map remains to be seen. According to further leaks, some are theorizing that the earthquakes will cause cracks to form in and around Tilted Towers, eventually leading to its destruction. However, almost everyone thought Tilted was destined for doom back in Season 4, and that never panned out, so we’ll all just have to wait and see what becomes of all this. What do you think these earthquakes and cracks in the ground mean? Will Tilted Towers be standing in Season 8? Let us know by tweeting us @Dexerto and sharing your thoughts and theories!

  • Grenades disabled in Fortnite after overpowered exploit found – Dexerto

Grenades disabled in Fortnite after overpowered exploit found Epic GamesA ridiculous Fortnite bug is allowing players to throw unlimited grenades at once, and it is literally impossible to counter. As with any game, Fortnite has its fair share of bugs, exploits and glitches, but Epic Games are usually pretty prompt to respond and fix things that are broken. However, players have recently discovered that it’s possible to throw all of your grenades at once with a simple keybind, and it is genuinely absurd. It looks like controller players might have another retort to bite back with when mouse & keyboard users complain about aim assist, as this looks like a bug exclusive to mouse and keyboard. As shown in the video, using a scroll wheel reset setting allows players to throw unlimited grenades at once – or, however many you have in your inventory slot. The max stack in public matches currently is six grenades, but in Creative games, you can literally carry unlimited grenades – and completely wreak havoc on your opponents. As evidenced in the video below, in which TurtleTavern explains how easy it is to exploit this bug, you can see multiple explosions at once after what appears to be one grenade throw. How to do the nade strat. pic.twitter.com/LdPjMsShjW — Rivals Tavern (@TurtleTavernTV) March 30, 2020 As it’s simply changing the Combat settings in the game, this probably wasn’t an issue that Epic saw coming, but they’ll likely be concerned once they catch wind of this exploit. Scroll wheel reset has been a common complaint from controller players, who see the setting as unfair with the way it allows mouse and keyboard users to quickly edit builds in a way that controllers can’t. A few hours after this exploit was discovered, Epic Games found it and took action, temporarily disabling grenades from battle royale. Due to an issue, the Grenade has been temporarily disabled in Battle Royale. We’ll provide an update when the Grenade has been re-enabled. pic.twitter.com/Ho9fer0bXh — Fortnite Status (@FortniteStatus) March 31, 2020 Needless to say, issues like this only fuel the debate between both inputs, but it at least looks like Epic Games are working quickly to take action and stop the issue. While grenades are temporarily disabled, they will aim to find out why this is occurring and figure out a way to make the settings as customizable as possible without allowing for exploits or bugs to give players an unfair advantage.

  • Court blocks Epic’s bid to return Fortnite to Apple store for Season 4 – Dexerto

Court blocks Epic’s bid to return Fortnite to Apple store for Season 4 Epic GamesA judge has blocked Epic Games’ request to reinstate Fortnite to the Apple App Store early, admitting she is “inclined” to let the battle royale’s removal stand for now, despite Fortnite Season 4 being just days away from release. Epic had requested the court lay down a temporary restraining order against Apple relating to the planned shutdown of their development accounts. This planned action would restrict the Fortnite devs from distributing software — including the upcoming Season 4 potential update — to Apple products. “I am not inclined to grant relief with respect to the games,” judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers said on Monday morning during the opening day of the Epic Games vs Apple showdown, via a public Zoom call of the hearing. Her reasoning behind retaining the Fortnite block was due to the fact she believes Epic was the instigator of the “spat” due to their move to place a direct payment method within their mobile app. This broke multiple iOS App Store rules. “Your client created the situation. Your client can’t thus come to this court with clean hands,” the judge said to Epic’s lawyers during the first day of the hearing. Rogers added the fact Fortnite’s long-planned fourth season is on the horizon did not, and would not, have bearing on her Monday decision either. “Strategically, and in a calculated move, you decided to breach, and decided to breach right before a new [Fortnite] season,” she explained to Epic’s lawyers. “[Epic Games] cannot have irreparable harm when you create harm yourself.” She suggested Epic simply “rollback” any payment changes they had made ahead of the August ban. Epic’s lawyer Katherine Forrest said this wasn’t an option due to the fact is “asking [Epic] to require consumers to pay more than they should.” The judge did, however, deem that Apple’s recent move to not only block Fortnite from the App Store, but also any developer accounts connected to Unreal Engine was “retaliatory” in nature, and confirmed she was “inclined to grant relief” for the game engine. Rogers noted that while Fortnite’s developer accounts are handled by Epic Games Inc, all Unreal Engine developer accounts are technically controlled by company subsidiary Epic Games International, therefore separating the two. “Here it seems to me Apple has overreached,” she said. “The contract with Epic International has not been breached… [the move] does, to me, look retaliatory. I am inclined to grant relief with respect to the Unreal Engine.” While Fortnite fans who play the battle royale on iOS mobile devices may miss out on the upcoming Season 4 launch, the huge update is still full steam ahead of all other gaming platforms. Fortnite Season 4, which starts on Thursday, August 27, is set to be dominated by a Marvel crossover theme. A handful of teasers for new superhero skins have already been found in the battle royale code, confirming the rumors. Epic also literally dropped the second in-game teaser into Fortnite; Thor’s legendary hammer Mjölnir crash-landed into the island over the weekend, leaving a massive crater in the middle of the ever-changing battle royale arena.

  • CouRageJD Loses Fortnite Match After Dealing 7 Damage with a Heavy Shotgun – Dexerto

CouRageJD Loses Fortnite Match After Dealing 7 Damage with a Heavy Shotgun Jack ‘CouRageJD’ Dunlop sat in disbelief as his Heavy Shotgun dealt 7 damage in the closing stages of a Fortnite match. To make matters even worse, CouRageJD was counting on the final blow to prevent fall damage, but instead Murphy’s Law took full effect and he eliminated himself for the loss. The play started off favoring the popular Fortnite streamer as he had a high ground advantage and a decent tower, facing off against an opponent who was simply ducking near a shed. It went even better for CouRageJD when he pulled off the 9,000 IQ play to launch himself to a second tower without being seen by the enemy. Unfortunately, it was all downhill after that. A stunned CouRage got up from his desk to process what just happened. Although CouRageJD has more Call of Duty:WWII LAN wins than eUnited and has had success in Fortnite pro tournaments, the aim that gave him the 0-15 meme may have come back at the worst possible time. The Heavy Shotgun in Fortnite underwent a significant change in July. The gun was buffed to have a more consistent spread, but the amount of pellets it fired changed from 5 to 10. Overall damage stayed the same per shot, meaning the increased pellets do less damage individually. CouRage experienced that first hand, appearing to only land a single pellet.

  • CouRage reveals why he stopped playing Fortnite – Dexerto

CouRage reveals why he stopped playing Fortnite YouTube: CouRageJack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop was once a massive figure in the world of competitive Fortnite, but the star has stopped playing the battle royale title altogether, and finally revealed his reasons why in an October YouTube video. Although CouRage got his start as a caster for MLG, he became synonymous with Fortnite in 2018-2019, going on to commentate several major events for the battle royale title — including the Fortnite World Cup, which he did the play-by-play for along with fellow star streamer DrLupo. However, he has since stopped streaming the game altogether and has instead opted for other popular picks like Among Us and Warzone, leaving his Fortnite-centric viewers confused as to why he suddenly broke off from Fortnite. While CouRage has been vocal about his hatred for skill-based matchmaking for some time, he finally explained his reasons for stepping away in a YouTube video on October 13, on the heels of the Chipotle Challenger Series. “Fortnite was a game that changed my life forever, and a game that kind of took my life by storm,” he began. “I fell in love with it when I played right on day number one… and now, three years, later… is something I will cherish forever.” CouRage went on to explain that when he’d first started streaming the game, he “loved it arguably more than any game I’ve ever loved before.” “But, like a lot of people, I believe the transition from Chapter 1 to Chapter 2… towards the end of Chapter 1, I was already falling out of love with the game,” he admitted. “It became more stressful than anything.” Citing a hatred of the game’s short-lived MECH robots after the Fortnite World Cup last year, he “wanted to love the game, but wasn’t able to,” also claiming that he felt its environment had changed from mostly casual to fiercely competitive during this time. Of course, skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) played a part in this feeling, which he said was “one of the things that completely destroyed my love for the game.” “I think it took away the ability for you to have as much fun as you once did,” he added. “Now in these games, it’s super sweaty, every fight’s a minute long… it became more stressful than anything.” (Topic begins at 13:32) Although CouRage listed plenty of faults with the title as it currently stands, he made sure to express his love for Epic and hopes to work with the company for years to come, but will be shifting his content to other titles for the foreseeable future. Epic have already revealed their plans to do another Fortnite World Cup in 2021, and considering how popular the former OpTic Gaming star is when it comes to hosting such events, it might not be too long before we see his name tied again to the battle royale.

  • CourageJD & DrLupo explain why they stopped playing Fortnite – Dexerto

CourageJD & DrLupo explain why they stopped playing Fortnite Twitter: CouRageJDJack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop and Ben ‘DrLupo’ Lupo were once some of the biggest Fortnite streamers in the world – but now they’ve revealed why they stopped playing the game. Fortnite paved the way for many of today’s biggest content creators to make something much more for themselves, and this is something Lupo happily admits during his appearance on The CouRage and Nadeshot Show, but as more and more of the biggest names move away from the popular battle royale title, many simply want to know why. Now, the Fornite World Cup casting duo have revealed exactly why they’ve stopped playing the game. After a funny and awkward introduction from Matthew ‘Nadeshot’ Haag, who says the two “rinsed it for everything it could give [you],” CouRage started to explain why he stopped playing. He said: “I would literally go insane if I was trying to play that game like I once did. I just mentally can no longer do two-minute build battles with skill-based matchmaking for no return. It just doesn’t do it for me anymore.” DrLupo agreed with Dunlop, saying it is “hard to play the same thing every single day for forever.” He compared it to games such as Call of Duty, which at least get a new iteration each year, adding that “the audience became saturated with it as well.” (Timestamp 7:40 for mobile viewers) Lupo goes on to explain that he got his first casting experience with Fortnite, and shows off some of the incredible collectibles he picked up during his time playing the game – including a Lego Rainbow Smash pickaxe that cost him $5,000. Both Lupo and Dunlop mention that they “still love the game,” the latter adding he can still go on and enjoy Fortnite sometimes, but no longer in the way he could throughout 2018. They also said that they would still be interested in casting if the opportunity presented itself but, with the likes of Warzone and Valorant being so popular right now, we’re not sure they’ll be heading back to Fortnite any time soon.

The Fortnite World Cup festivities have begun and to close out the first day players participated in the Fortnite Pro-Am where fans got to see many of their favorite creators and celebrities battle it out. However, the first shots were fired before the matches even began as CouRage took a shot at Lupo’s age, a common target among friends. 600Lupo is often considered the father of the Fortnite community due to his age, even though he’s in his early thirties. During CouRage’s introduction, he cut to a video announcing a new charity that he claims is a cause that’s near and dear to him and how it will help his good friend DrLupo. “It’s for a good friend DrLupo, who gets older every single day,” he explained. “In the past six months, hand-eye coordination, eye sight, and his hearing have gone completely downhill. So please, join me in support the Geriatric Gamer Foundation so my friend DrLupo can get the help he so desperately needs.” It’s interesting to note that as Lupo aged in the video, he actually got more hair, which was a surprising sight. It was quite the haymaker from him as the official Fortnite broadcast even zoomed on his screen and showed thousands of viewers what he wrote. In the end, Lupo and CouRage are great friends and there’s no bad blood between the two streamers. Sometimes you just get fed up with everyone calling you old so you have to defend yourself.

  • CouRage reveals one thing Fortnite still can’t get right – Dexerto

CouRage reveals one thing Fortnite still can’t get right Fortnite’s latest v8.10 update fixed a lot of bugs and added some new things, but streamer CouRage is still waiting on Epic Games to fix one crucial thing. Players owe a lot of credit to Epic Games due to their track record with listening to players and the fact updates come weekly to Fortnite. However, there’s one thing players have been wanting for quite some time now and that’s noise fixes. It has never been easy to tell where players are based on their footsteps and that is still a problem that plagues the game. For the casual player, hearing footsteps is important but not completely crucial to the enjoyment of Fortnite. However, this is completely different for pro players as they have to rely on sounds to get the edge on opponents. Not understanding the direction footsteps are coming from is a very important thing that needs fixing. CouRage, a pretty common name to see connected to Fortnite esports and popular streamer, shared his displeasure with how Epic Games has not fixed this issue as of yet. “I’ve played 9,000+ games and still couldn’t tell you if the enemy is above, below, or same level as me,” he wrote on Twitter. It’s actually pretty nuts with how many good things Epic has done for the game that they still can’t get footstep audio right. I’ve played 9,000+ games and still couldn’t tell you if the enemy is above, below, or same level as me. — Jack “”CouRage”” Dunlop (@CouRageJD) March 13, 2019 CouRage is far from the only player to complain about this problem and he certainly won’t be the last. Epic Games has done their part in fixing the sound for a lot of Fortnite but we’re still waiting on fixes to come to footsteps. Tilted Towers is where this problem truly shines as many of the buildings have multiple stories and there’s no real way to tell where your enemy is. As bigger names share their displeasure it’s possible Epic Games will streamline this fix in future updates. Until now, players just have to do their best with pinpointing enemy footsteps.

Courage Pulls Off Incredible Hunting Rifle Victory Royale After Rocket Riding Into the Fortnite Storm OpTic Gaming’s Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop may have hit his peak after getting an insane Victory Royale with the Hunting Rifle while Rocket Riding into the Storm. When it comes to popularity and name recognition, few games are able to go toe-to-toe at the time of writing with Fortnite: Battle Royale since its release in late 2017. Fans have looked to Epic Games, the developer of Fortnite, as the ‘Gold Standard’ in terms of developers, due to their constant upkeep and dedication to providing a one-of-a-kind gaming experience. New additions, such as weapons, outfits, items, and other forms of content are introduced on what seems like a weekly basis, keeping the game ‘fresh’ over the course of time. Content creators have grown alongside Fortnite in popularity throughout its lifespan thus far, with the title typically found at the top of the Twitch live streaming platform in terms of concurrent viewers. Following his retirement from the CWL commentary team in order to pursue a full-time career in content creation, CouRage, a member of OpTic Gaming, has seen an immense amount of success ever since the decision. While Rocket-Riding into the storm, CouRage managed to pull off an absolutely incredible snipe with the Hunting rifle to secure the Victory Royale, which, in turn, spawned a hysterical reaction. • Courage, Myth and TimTheTatman among critics of Fortnite’s BRUTE Mech explanation – Dexerto

Courage, Myth and TimTheTatman among critics of Fortnite’s BRUTE Mech explanation Epic GamesA number of popular Fortnite content creators have been reacting to Epic Games’ bizarre reason for not removing the B.R.U.T.E. mechs from the battle royale title. Since its release at the start of Season 10, fans and personalities have been begging Epic Games to give the robots a major nerf, or ideally remove them from the game entirely. Finally, the developers addressed players on Thursday, August 15, but their response was less than satisfactory, explaining that the mechs allowed “everyone to have a shot at that first elimination or Victory Royale moment,” claiming that the players who previously struggled to find kills are getting more, and that experienced players are still finding the same amount of eliminations on average.” Unsurprisingly, Epic Games’ admission that the mechs were there to help bad players win matches didn’t go down too well with the community, with popular content creators who shot to stardom thanks to the popularity of Fortnite voicing their anger at the blog post. Tim ‘Overwatch account underneath the tweet of the post, writing: “I’m coming home, dad.” The streamer than revealed his in-depth thoughts on the announcement, tweeting that he loves Fortnite but “these choices with the mech boggle my mind. Hope that some balance is found soon… hard to enjoy the game at the moment. — timthetatman (@timthetatman) August 15, 2019 TSM pro player Ali ‘Myth’ Kabanni echoed Timthetatman’s thoughts, using Twitter to argue against the idea that Epic should continue to add items just to stop it from growing stale. “I don’t even know what to say about the most recent post Epic made,” wrote the 20-year-old. “I don’t want items in the game just for the sake of keeping things ‘fresh’. I’m not a game dev, but I’m not sure if turning out content that’s unproductive is a good plan for the long term.” I dont even know what to say about the most recent post EPIC made. The 23-year-old raged: “If you added a gun in the game that has a button that randomly one person in the game dies, without a chance of counterplay, that button would still exist, right? And you can say that the button only accounts for 1% of deaths in the game. “The thing is, that doesn’t matter. Every kill or death with the BRUTE is one too many! The BRUTE has very limited counterplay, and it allows players who don’t usually get kills to have that opportunity!” While some streamers made their annoyance clear, others like Jack ‘CouRageJD’ Dunlop and Ben ‘DrLupo’ Lupo simply decided to ditch Fortnite for the night, and move on to other titles. 100 Thieves member CouRage responded to the tweet by advertising his own stream, telling people to “tune into me playing Minecraft,” where he was attempting to name a pig after Timthetatman, while DrLupo went off to play Dungeons and Dragons, a game which has “no mechs.” Guys – please tune into me playing Minecraft here I’m trying to name my pig Tim https://t.co/2jQ2ONdjPp — Jack “CouRage” Dunlop (@CouRageJD) August 15, 2019 While it’s possible that Epic Games may see all the outrage from the community and decide to adjust course, their blog post seems to indicate that they plan to stick to their guns regarding the mechs – a move which could see even more streamers shift away from the game for good.

CouRage, Ninja and Dr Lupo find brilliant new way of escaping storm in Fortnite Season 8 CouRage / Zimbio / SpacesalJP, TwitterPopular streamers Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop, Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins and Benjamin ‘Dr Lupo’ Lupo have been trying out all of the new content in Fortnite Season 8, but none more so than a new feature they’re using to escape the storm in style. Epic Games revealed some astonishing changes to the Battle Royale map with the launch of the new season on February 28, including the destruction of Wailing Woods, the arrival of a huge volcano and a pirate themed area in the northeast corner of the map. However, it’s a new emote that seems to have caught the group’s attention more than anything and they just can’t get enough of it. Epic has given Fortnite players the chance to create conga lines in Season 8, which is one of the only animations that allows your character to dance and move forward at the same time. Read More: How to watch Fortnite’s $500,000 ESL Katowice Royale tournament – schedule, format, players, and more – Instead of lining up to dance as a celebration technique after picking up eliminations, though, CouRage and co. have been using it to come in from the storm in hilarious fashion. “Do the conga the entire time,” CouRage told his laughing teammates, before Ninja had them line up in a more traditional style. Of course, they obliged before making it to the circle on time. So, is this a tactic that we’re going to see more often from streamers and other Fortnite players? We’ll have to wait and see.

  • CouRage mocks Epic Games’ decision making on their own livestream – Dexerto

CouRage mocks Epic Games’ decision making on their own livestream Twitch star Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop took shots at Epic Games’ recent decision making, while he casting the World Cup qualifiers on their official live stream. The former OpTic Gaming member was hired as an official caster for the upcoming Fortnite World Cup, but referenced the recent controversial changes made by Epic Games, which have upset top streamers and professional players, during the live broadcast. Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins and Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney have both pleaded with the developer to re-vault the overpowered drum gun after the community voted to bring it back to the game, while other weapons such as the pump shotgun were unexpectedly removed from the loot pool. CouRage specifically referenced the removal of the pump shotgun – which caused outrage in the community – after watching a player fail to utilize the new combat variant effectively. While the new weapon has increased fire rate and range compared to the pump, it isn’t capable of hitting 200 damage shots meaning players on low health points are no longer able to hit clutch shots during hectic end games. “Right there is the difference between the combat shotgun and the pump. If I had a pump, there could have been a slight chance of a 200 damage one shot. “But a combat shotgun right there, you just have no shot.” The ex-Call of Duty caster continued to fire shots at Epic’s recent choices – particularly the re-addition of the semi-automatic sniper rifle. CouRage suggested that Epic should implement a ‘weapon eater’ NPC that would rid the game of useless and overpowered weapons. He said: “It eats up weapons – the drum gun and semi-auto sniper – and spits back out the pump shotgun!” While their recent choices may be unpopular, as shown in the past, it’s unlikely that Epic Games will revert any of the recent changes any time soon. For now, players will have to continue to adapt to the newly added weapons while the pump lays dormant in the vault.

  • CouRage explains how his infamous “f**k the mechs” clip got him fired as Fortnite caster – Dexerto

CouRage explains how his infamous “f**k the mechs” clip got him fired as Fortnite caster Epic Games/YouTube: CouRageJD100 Thieves co-owner and former esports commentator Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop has finally revealed how his viral clip complaining about the B.R.U.T.E. (or “Mech”) in Fortnite may have inadvertently ended his casting career. When Fortnite esports first started to take off, CouRage became the voice of the game, calling the greatest moments at the biggest tournaments. He casted major FNCS championships and even the record-breaking Fortnite World Cup, one of the biggest names in the scene. With Season X in Chapter 1, though, CouRage stopped casting Fortnite altogether, never working on another Epic Games event since. CouRage reveals why he isn’t a Fortnite caster anymore During a ‘hot wings challenge’ YouTube video, CouRage spoke about the incident, finally being asked whether his “F**k the mechs” clip got him fired by Epic. “I definitely didn’t make people happy with my ‘f**k the mechs’ clip,” he explained. “I was meant to cast the end of season event for Season X, ‘f**k the mechs’ happened, and I was told ‘You know what, I think it’s in our best interest to not cast this season and we’ll reassess for the future’.” CouRage then joked that he “hasn’t casted a Fortnite event since,” giving a pretty clear indication of how Epic reassessed following the viral clip. Timestamp 7:02 While CouRage doesn’t explicitly say that the clip was what got him fired in the end, many viewers felt it safe to assume this was confirmation. CouRage hasn’t done much casting work since and, with his thriving YouTube career as well as his work with 100 Thieves, it’s hard to imagine he has much time for commentating anyway.

  • CouRage Gives His Honest Opinion on Summer Skirmish Co-Caster Zeke After Fans Criticized Him – Dexerto

CouRage Gives His Honest Opinion on Summer Skirmish Co-Caster Zeke After Fans Criticized Him Twitch/FortniteJack “CouRage” Dunlop returned to the casting desk recently to commentate the Fortnite Summer Skirmish, and while fans loved him, they weren’t so polite about his co-commentator ‘Zeke’. CouRage is now a full time streamer and member of OpTic Gaming, but was previously a full time caster for MLG until early 2018, where he was a fan favorite. When the opportunity to cast his new favorite game, Fortnite, came along, CouRage snapped it up, travelling to LA to co-commentate Summer Skirmish Epic Games video editor, known as Zeke. CouRage received plenty of praise for his professional and entertaining casting – familiar to Call of Duty esport fans. But some were very critical of Zeke’s casting, even calling for him to be off the broadcast, so CourRage has spoken up in his defense. During a recent live stream, CouRage took a moment to make everyone aware that this was one of Zeke’s first ever casts, and by day he is a video editor for Epic. “Zeke, who was my co-caster, you guys might not even know this, but that was literally like his fifth time on broadcast. During the week he’s a video editor for Epic, but he’s that passionate about wanting to become a caster, that they’re offering him and opportunity. When I was on my fifth time ever casting I was total shit. Zeke is a better caster than I was at that time in my career. […] He’s still getting the hang of things, don’t count him out, he needs more experience and he knows that. But to say he’s shit and this and that, it’s just not fair.” It’s not clear if CouRage will be heading back out to Los Angeles to cast this weekend’s Summer Skirmish, but he did go on to say that he looks forward to casting with Zeke again. The tournament is broadcast live on Fortnite’s official Twitch channel, and is expected to take place this weekend again on Friday and Saturday (August 3-4). Considering how good CouRage was on his first week, fans will hope to see him and Zeke back at it together soon, and with his tutelage and experience, Zeke should become a great caster in no time.

  • CouRage explains how Fortnite’s finally getting better ahead of Season 3 – Dexerto

CouRage explains how Fortnite’s finally getting better ahead of Season 3 Twitter: CourageJD / Epic GamesPopular YouTube streamer and 100 Thieves content creator Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop has made it clear that he believes Fortnite is back on the up, with an array of updates to improve the game and bring it back to the top. CouRage was once one of the biggest names in Fortnite, a top streamer and the voice of some of the most iconic moments in the game’s competitive endeavors as a commentator at events such as the Fortnite World Cup. Though he explained in April 2020 why he had moved on from playing Fortnite, saying that it would “drive him insane” to still be playing it in the way he did during its glory days, it looks like his opinion might be reverting. After a series of updates and changes made, including weapon balancing and player communication opportunities, CouRage praised Epic Games for what was happening. In a tweet posted on May 6, he listed some of the changes made, including the Heavy Sniper nerf, aim assist tweaks, and “giving more transparency on decisions,” evidently delighted at what was going on. His final note was the most telling, saying that “Fortnite is turning around,” a clear sign that he believes the game may be returning to what it once was, as an absolute gaming powerhouse. Epic Games in the last two weeks: -Nerfed Heavy Sniper -Tweaked aim assist -Removed SBMM from squads -Began communicating better on Reddit -Brought back tournament broadcasts -Improved competitive roadmap -Gave more transparency on decisionsHoly shit. Fortnite is turning around — Jack “CouRage” Dunlop (@CouRageJD) May 6, 2020 Many respondents agreed with Dunlop, clearly of the belief that Epic’s communication with and responsiveness to the community’s biggest desires and concerns is making for a great change. One of the bigger names to respond to CouRage was top streamer Ali ‘SypherPK’ Hassan, who agreed with his opinion and shared his excitement for the upcoming Season 3. It’s no secret that Fortnite isn’t the behemoth it was once upon a time, but the game remains massively popular to this day and, if Epic Games implement the right changes and fixes heading in to Season 3, they may indeed be “turning around.”

  • CouRage, Cloak, Chap, and more react to Fortnite finally nerfing BRUTE mechs – Dexerto

CouRage, Cloak, Chap, and more react to Fortnite finally nerfing BRUTE mechs Epic Games/Team Liquid/FaZe Clan/IG: CouRageA number of prominent Fortnite community figures have responded to the eventual nerf of BRUTE mechs in Fortnite, following weeks of community outrage. BRUTEs were added to Fortnite at the start of August with the inception of Season 10. Despite the fact Epic clearly had hopes for them to become an integral part of the game’s meta, the community quickly denounced them as overpowered and unbalanced. Despite the backlash, Epic stood firm on the mechs, explaining that they were conducive to lesser skilled players achieving victories. However, the backlash appears to have become too significant and, on August 22, Epic finally announced a meaningful nerf to the mechs in Fortnite. The BRUTEs received nerfs to a number of their strongest attributes, including mobility and the number of missiles fired simultaneously. Feedback has generally been positive, but a few more cynical members of the community argue that the change has only come in as players flock to other games. Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop has been one of the most outspoken critics of mechs in Fortnite, even quitting the $400,000 Twitch Rivals tournament in protest at the vehicle’s frustrating power. He passionately responded to news of the nerf, tweeting “good riddance”. Finally…the mechs have been nerfed. Good riddance. — Jack “CouRage” Dunlop (@CouRageJD) August 22, 2019 Good friend of CouRage, Tim ‘TimTheTatman’ Betar, has also criticized the mechs and has been seen to play games such as Overwatch with more frequency of late. He responded to the news with a video of him repeatedly shouting “Yes!”, in a cathartic display of emotion. However, Dennis ‘Cloak’ Lepore, long-time duo of Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney, remained critical of the developers, stating that it “shouldn’t have been in the game in the first place”. This was a view shared by other players, such as Liquid Chap, who is still pushing for their complete removal from Fortnite. it shouldn’t of been in the game in the FIRST PLACE MANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN — cloakzy (@cloakzy) August 22, 2019 +1 for removing Junk Rift from arena -1 for keeping the terrible vehicle in the game— Chap (@LiquidChap) August 22, 2019 Popular Australian YouTuber Lannan ‘Lazarbeam’ Eacott tweeted that they (Mechs) got nerfed “hard, (is) Fortnite fun again?” Eacott was one creator who, like CouRage, had been spending increasing amounts of time on Minecraft as a result of the mechs in Fortnite. Some more cynical users remained critical of the game, stating that the changes have only come about as creators (and players) move away from Fortnite due to the mechs. Similarly, some suggested that the nerf has come at a time when it will disrupt other games and encourage players to return to Fortnite. For example, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Gunfight Alpha released on August 22, just hours prior to the nerf being announced. Classic. Don’t praise epic. They know what they’re doing it took them way to fucking long. They know this, and this is on purpose — FOUR EM TEE (@4MTBoi) August 22, 2019 While some users clearly don’t think the nerfs are enough and that they took too long to come about, others are simply grateful to see the giant robots become more balanced. We’re sure a general consensus will emerge as players spend longer with the adjusted mechs.

He started by parroting the mom’s comments “do you usually play with kids this age?” When the mom delivered that loaded question, it immediately put CouRage on the back foot and he did his best to explain the situation. He offered more details on his thought process during those moments to Ninja. The worst part is that it wasn’t even the kid CouRage originally agreed to play with, it was his friend. “He was like ‘can I invite my buddy?’ sure lil’ Jeffy, bring in your friend.” said CouRage in the video below, not knowing what that would bring. The kid, who spent the first two minutes absolutely star struck at the prospect of playing with one of the top players in the game, immediately turned to horror as his mom ruined the moment. From her perspective, the worry is valid. Here’s this random dude who is playing with her son and he’s an adult. Without knowing anything about CouRage or even Twitch, that interaction could feel weird. Luckily, she seemed to understand CouRage’s explanation and allowed her son to play one more game with them but the kid went MIA. All-in-all, CouRage did well to diffuse the situation, but he may never live down that hilarious moment.

  • CouRage, Nadeshot and FaZe Cizzorz explain Fortnite’s fall in popularity – Dexerto

CouRage, Nadeshot and FaZe Cizzorz explain Fortnite’s fall in popularity 100 Thieves/Epic GamesOn the latest installment of The CouRage and Nadeshot Show, the hosts and their guest, FaZe Cizzorz, discussed the decline in Fortnite’s popularity, based on the game’s falling revenue and Twitch viewers. In episode five of the popular esports podcast, Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop and Matthew ‘Nadeshot’ Haag, were joined by FaZe Clan’s Cizzorz, to discuss the Fortnite star’s rise to prominence, and the impact he has had on the gaming community. Nadeshot, as owner of 100 Thieves, is heavily involved in Fortnite, and both CouRage and Cizzorz have made impressive moves on Epic Games’ battle royale, with the former scheduled to comment on Fortnite’s World Cup from July 26-28. One topic that the trio discussed is the decline in popularity of Fortnite Battle Royale. Nadeshot references a report from June, which states that “the game’s overall earnings have plummeted 38%”, compared with the same time last year. Similarly, Nadeshot refers to the fall in Fortnite viewers on Twitch. Only 2 of the top 10 fastest growing streamers from July 2019, played Fortnite exclusively: Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney and Manuel ‘LOLiTO’ Fernandez. One of the main reasons for this is the growth of rival games, such as Teamfight Tactics, which are pulling in viewers who may otherwise be watching Fortnite. However, neither CouRage nor Cizzorz seemed too surprised by the fall in popularity Fortnite is experiencing. “It’s kind of obvious and apparent,” said Cizzorz, “that Fortnite itself just isn’t as big as it was – like it was everywhere.” CouRage echoed these thoughts, arguing that Fortnite’s explosion was “unsustainable”. (Timestamp: 27:15) “It was a global phenomenon,” CouRage said. “Now the global phenomenon side is over, where you’ve got every kid you grew up with playing the game, who didn’t even play games. The global phenomenon side is over, now it’s just one of the biggest games in the world, still, if not the biggest game in the world.” CouRage also explained that now is the “lull time” in Fortnite, as it ends its ninth season, a point that Cizzorz agreed with. Typically, Fortnite games see their biggest injections of new content at the start of new seasons. Hence at the end of a season, when content is older, there are less players interested. This fluctuating level of interest is what CouRage attributes varying audience levels to. Despite both players’ acknowledgement that the game has dropped in popularity, neither seem particularly worried about its longevity, as Epic Games continue to pump new updates into their game.

  • Could Wreck-It Ralph be joining forces with Fortnite for an upcoming crossover? – Dexerto

Could Wreck-It Ralph be joining forces with Fortnite for an upcoming crossover? Fortnite is no stranger to promotional crossovers and it looks like another huge one could be on the way very soon. Given the heights that Fortnite has reached here in 2018, it’s usually not a surprise to see the game featured in various forms of media or hold special crossovers with other brands and franchises. According to new game files found by data miners, though, it looks like Fortnite could be in for another massive in-game crossover. A video file has been found inside the “Promotions” folder of the game files that features popular Disney character Wreck-It Ralph running past the screen and waving at the viewer. Excuse me but what is Wreck It Ralph doing in the Promotions folder of Fortnite? File Name: 18_1023_RiR_Reels_2397_2CBR_TESTVERSION_v2.mp4 pic.twitter.com/b2B4LtInzp — Fortnite: Battle Royale Leaks (@FNBRLeaks) November 21, 2018 The file name seems to be referencing Risky Reels, one of the many point-of-interest locations on Fortnite’s sprawling map, making it likely that this video will be played on the movie screen at the location. There’s also speculation that there could be another LTM event similar to the Thanos event that came out earlier this year when Avengers: Infinity War was released. With Ralph being an incredibly large character that was seen as a ‘bad guy’ during the first movie released in 2012, an event like Thanos’ could be a perfect fit for the character. • Countdown location leaked for ‘The End’ event in Fortnite – Dexerto

Countdown location leaked for ‘The End’ event in Fortnite Epic GamesWith ‘The End’ in-game event expected to take place soon in Fortnite Battle Royale, data-miners have uncovered where the countdown timer for it will be located on the map. In-game events have become a staple of Fortnite tradition for well over a year now, ever since the massive Rocket Launch that took place during Season 4. Epic Games have used them as a way to mark the conclusion of one season and the start of the next, offering a sort-of transition from one chapter to another. While nothing has been confirmed as of yet, all indications are that the event which will close the book on Season X will be called ‘The End.’ Read More: Epic respond to crossplay matchmaking fury – As in the past, Epic look to be adding an in-game timer that will countdown to when The End will start, and the location for where the timer will be placed has been leaked, thanks to data-miners ‘spedicey1‘ and ‘HYPEX.’ The image above is rendered from files found in the back end of the game, and it indicates that the timer will hover over Dusty Depot. As can also be seen in the picture, Dusty is the location where a launch pad for a rocket was placed near the start of Season X and periodically added to throughout the various weekly updates. Read More: How Fortnite Bots will work in Season 11 – The appearance of the timer at this very point on the map strongly suggests that the rocket will have something to do with the event, a theory that has been supported by various other leaks over the past few weeks. As for when the event is expected to take place, many believe it will happen on October 13, since that has been confirmed by Epic to be the final day of Season X. What is ‘The End’ event in Fortnite? Aside from kicking off Season 11, many believe that The End will also mark the end of the Fortnite map as everyone currently knows it. Some are of the mind that Epic will release a whole brand new map for the new season, while others contend that it will just be massively overhauled, with numerous locations taken out in favor of new ones. Whatever does end up happening, all signs point to some sort of massive change coming to the popular battle royale title, although, of course, nothing has been confirmed so everyone will just have to wait and see. • Could underwater Fortnite be coming in Season 7? Fan theory predicts big map changes – Dexerto

Could underwater Fortnite be coming in Season 7? Fan theory predicts big map changes A Fortnite fan has come up with a detailed theory of what is going to happen over the course of Season 7 – and it includes an underwater portion of the map. Season 7 kicked off with a large iceberg crashing into the south west of the map, causing a new snow biome area, where much of the map is locked in ice. Of course, this ice has to go somewhere, and this Fortnite fan believes Epic Games will have it melt – turning into water and covering an area of the map, effectively flooding it. Although this may seem somewhat far fetched – too gameplay changing for Epic to implement – the developers have shown they are not scared to drastically change gameplay for the sake of lore – take the recent Infinity Blade for instance. More: Fortnite: Weapon wrap concept would change color based on weapon rarity and have special effects for high kill games – The fan theory from u/SneakyParagon is backed by a few interesting features about Season 7 – and even another Epic Games title ‘Subnautica’, which is based in an entirely underwater world. The first clue is a number of battle pass items which hint at heat, melting and even some aquatic features. The theory also highlights the large in-game sun dial, which so far has remained somewhat of a mystery. But perhaps it could play a larger role in events to come, maybe even a clue to the next in-game event. Finally of course is the clue from Subnautica. Although this game isn’t directly linked to Fortnite, it is currently available on the Epic Games store for free. All of this is complete speculation of course, but Epic Games always has big plans for how gameplay and the map itself will evolve over any given season. With so much ice and snow on the map, it is somewhat logical that it will melt, but flooding a portion of the map would be another step further. According to this fan theory, you can’t even escape global warming in the world’s most popular video game.

  • Could Vending Machines return to Fortnite in Chapter 2? – Dexerto

Could Vending Machines return to Fortnite in Chapter 2? Epic GamesBefore Fortnite switched over to Chapter 2, Vending Machines that gave players some rare weapons and items covered the map, but they have since been removed – and players are wondering if they will ever return. With the onset of Chapter 2, Epic Games removed many of the features Fortnite built up over 10 seasons. While a number of the features removed were applauded, some of them are very missed, and players would be grateful to see them make an eventual return. One such feature includes the Vending Machines, which disappeared at the start of Chapter 2. These machines could make all the difference between a win or a loss at the end of the game, so it would certainly be nice to have them back in some capacity. Perhaps Epic Games thought that implementing a fishing mechanic would remove the need of Vending Machines, since players could just fish up loot and ammo that way. Given the fact that Epic brought back some familiar locations from the first map, it’s not out of the question that they can make similar moves with the potentially life-saving appliances. For those who want a comeback for this easy method of getting rare loot, it looks like there might be something going on behind the scenes that indicates their return in the near future. Reddit user “whodatnola1025“ captured a clip of themselves dropping into the map, and while the textures loaded, eagle-eyed viewers can catch a very quick glimpse of a Vending Machine popping up. This is far from a confirmation that the machines will actually be making a return, but it does show that nothing’s ever really gone from Fortnite. It’s certainly a blink-and-you-miss-it type moment, so if you can’t notice it while watching through the clip, we’ve got you covered. Epic Games haven’t mentioned anything about the machines returning, so it’s important not to put too much stock into this surprise appearance. Until we get official word from the developers, we’ll just have to keep on speculating about the future of Fortnite. As of January 14, it’s been over a month since the last update, so fans are starting to become impatient for new content. The end of Chapter 2’s first season comes in February, and something will have to fill the void until then. We don’t know what that is just yet, but we’re sure Epic will have something planned.

  • Could this Fortnite storm concept fix some of the issues in the late game? – Dexerto

Could this Fortnite storm concept fix some of the issues in the late game? One of the biggest complaints about competitive Fortnite events from viewers is that the game often ends in a ridiculously tight circle as a large number of remaining players build their way into the clouds. This was particularly prevalent during the Fortnite Fall Skirmish finals at TwitchCon as images of almost half the players in the 100-man lobbies being alive in the final circles were shared across social media. One fan of the game thinks they may have come up with a solution to the issue, though. Reddit user ‘SchwarzENTegger’ shared an image of his idea for how the storm should look in the late game, suggesting a constricting dome rather than the cylinder that we see at the moment. The dome would not only get smaller in circumference, but also in height, with SchwarzENTegger stating: “This solves issues like: Sky basing, insane number of endgame players, high ground camping,” and more. The user also believes that this dome concept would end up: “forcing players to fight instead of endlessly building upwards.” “Playing devil’s advocate: closing the circle this way would cause even more people to be eliminated by the storm,” another user, ‘MrStLouis’, said in the FortniteCompetitive subreddit. “Although I like the idea of forcing encounters late game rather than building up I think they need to fix more than the final circle.” While we’re not entirely sure how effective this suggested change would be in terms of making competitive Fortnite more enjoyable to watch, we’d be interested to see it in practice before writing it off as a non-starter. Read More: Ninja reveals brand new Galaxy Fortnite back-bling, pickaxe and glider set live on stream – Not being able to build up to a great height as the game progresses might force some players to take the gamble of engaging in a fight early, but if professionals still waited until the final circles it would seriously limit their options. The way that items like the Rift-To-Go could be used in the late game would also be limited due to players taking damage when they teleport into the sky – something that they would surely not be fans of.

  • Could Fortnite’s leaked respawn system be another Apex Legends inspired feature? – Dexerto

Could Fortnite’s leaked respawn system be another Apex Legends inspired feature? Season 8 in Fortnite Battle Royale has added a lot of new content and features into the game, and there appears to be a whole lot more on the horizon. On February 28, after the v8.00 had gone live in Fortnite, players began noticing mysterious vans located at various points throughout the map. These vans appear to be the result of a visual bug as they are only visible in Replay mode and not when playing the game’s regular playlists. The most eye-catching aspect of these vans is that they contain some sort of beacon on top which display a glowing hologram of a skin. This has sparked major speculation that a player respawn system is coming soon to Fortnite, and these vans will play a central role in that new feature. Further fueling this speculation are certain game files that have been found and leaked by data-miners since the release of the v8.00 update. Called ‘Second_Chance_Van’ and ‘SecondChance_Card_Pickup,’ these files strongly hit at these new vans being exactly what players are thinking they are. WAIT! SECOND CHANGE VAN…. pic.twitter.com/Ba8pPu96s8— FortTory – Fortnite Leaks & News (@FortTory) February 28, 2019 How does the player respawn feature work? The player respawn system was first introduced to the battle royale genre by Apex Legends, and it has been received very positively by many players. The way it works is it allows players to respawn teammates back into a match, even if they’ve been fully eliminated by an enemy player. In order to respawn a fallen teammate, players need to retrieve their ‘beacons’ and take them to one of the many respawn points located on the map. At this point, the previously eliminated player gets returned to the map and has to start looting up again as they no longer have the inventory from before their death. With a player respawn system in place, you will no longer have to deal with that annoyance as your teammates can then pick up your beacon, or in Fortnite’s case, “card,” and take it to a respawn van, where you will be respawned back into the match. It must be said that these leaks come as no major surprise as many players were assuming that Epic Games would eventually be inspired by the feature’s popularity in Apex Legends and add it into Fortnite. If it does get added, it will be the second new mechanic in Season 8 that will have originated in Apex Legends, with the new World Marker ‘ping’ system being the first. • Could this be the best way to add ranked play to Fortnite? – Dexerto

Could this be the best way to add ranked play to Fortnite? Epic GamesFortnite players have asked for a ranking system to the game for a long time prompting widespread frustration over the missing feature, but one idea could be the answer to easily integrating the competitive component. Epic Games have helped create an extensive log of tournaments and events for its battle royal, but that still hasn’t quelled the concern from fans over the game’s lack of a more competitive environment. In a post, Reddit user easkate outlined their idea for a ranking system influenced by Rocket League that could see a similarly effective structure introduced to Fortnite. The concept would introduce “Ranked Royale” as a tiered ranking system consisting of Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Champion that echoes the structure from other popular games. Within those ranks there would be four sub-tiers for players to move through that would either rank up or down with their performances. Read more: When does Fortnite’s v7.20 Content Update go live and what’s in it? – Everything we know so far – The idea didn’t give a thorough explanation to what factors would contribute to a player’s rank, seeing as players hold Fortnite kills and Victory Royales in different esteem. That being said, there would be a merit to including sub-tiers because of the wildly varying experiences players ranging from amateurs to pros can have in a given game. The concept was met with some hesitation from fans, but overall the idea seemed to strike the right chord with a lot of commenters. From a fan’s perspective there was still indecision about the correct implementation of such a structure, whether or not Ranked or a previously proposed skill based matchmaking would be a better fit for the battle royale.

  • Could Fortnite’s ice sphere and A.I.M. skin be linked? – Dexerto

Could Fortnite’s ice sphere and A.I.M. skin be linked? A gigantic sphere of ice has appeared in the sky above Fortnite’s Polar Peak, and some believe that it may be linked to the infamous A.I.M. skin. The orb was introduced to Fortnite during the V7.20 update on Tuesday, January 15 and fans of the game have already begun to speculate about what it means. Those who have attempted to get close to the sphere have found their screens covered in ice, however some clever fans have found out the menacing Ice King is inside the ball of ice, perhaps preparing to cast a spell over the Fortnite island. While many ponder about what this sphere means, some Fortnite fans believe that the orb has been hinted at for some time now, and may be linked to the A.I.M. skin, which was the reward for players who completed the Season 6 Hunting Party challenges. Eagled-eyed players have noticed that the logo on the A.I.M. robot’s parachute from when it landed on the island looks awfully similar to what is expected to take place with the sphere. Leaks suggest that the orb will explode at some point in the future, and some reckon that the A.I.M. logo represents this, with a globe in the middle and shapes around it that could be seen to be a creative representation of an explosion. Whether these two are actually linked is unknown, but it likely won’t be long before we find out for sure, as weather warnings for the next in-game event have already started to appear on television screens inside the game.

  • CouRage hits out at Fornite pros for complaining about the game – Dexerto

CouRage hits out at Fornite pros for complaining about the game Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop has hit out at other professional Fortnite players who are complaining about Fortnite and its upcoming $1 million open tournament, but making money from the game anyway. The former Call of Duty esports caster let loose during a Twitch stream on Tuesday, November 27, saying that he’s now frustrated to the point where he’s muting people. “[100T] Parallax is someone I muted in a heartbeat,” he said. “I don’t think I’ve seen him say a positive thing, ever. I just had to mute him. “Nice dude, but man, it’s incredible how much he just spews out the bad stuff when they’re doing very, very good things. People are so quick to hate on something and then plug their creator code next because they’re making money off their creator code.” The streamer emphasized that there are issues with the game and when he notices a problem, he posts about it. Yet, when it comes to seeing complaints about the launch of a $1 million Fortnite tournament, he’s not a happy man. “For me to go and be upset that there’s a $1 million open tournament, everyone gets tilted at it. You get tilted at it. Not every pro player is going to qualify, there’s RNG, it’s a battle royale, you deal with it.” Fornite’s ‘Winter Royale’ event, which Dunlop referred to, was an online competition that was completely open to all players across Europe and North America. The qualification stages of the tournament have already passed but the competition’s finals will kick off on Friday, November 30, in Europe and December 11 in North America.

  • Could a new point-of-interest soon be coming to the Fortnite map? – Dexerto

Could a new point-of-interest soon be coming to the Fortnite map? One Reddit user has compiled a convincing theory that points to a brand-new POI on the map involving everyone’s favorite burger joint. Fortnite fans are always coming up with theories on what could be next for the extremely popular game, but this has to be one of the most elaborate ones yet. Reddit user ‘Inzaine’ is convinced that a new Durrr Burger POI will be hitting Fortnbite in the near future and has laid out a long theory explaining why. Everything started when the old Durrr Burger location in Greasy Grove was boarded up after the release of the V6.22 update seemingly in response to an ongoing battle between them on Pizza Pit. “Ever since the shutdown of the Durrr Burger in Greasy, the store has been moving by van and competing with a Tomato Truck. Now, a war may be developing between the two,” Inzaine tells readers as a part of this theory. Inzaine then notes that currently, the two trucks are squaring off at the Soccer Field – where they think the POI will eventually appear – with there being a large number of Durrr Burger advertisements already inside the Stadium. The latest evidence to add fuel to the fire comes in the form of a poll posted to the official Fortnite Twitter on November 12. When it’s dinner time, who do you turn to? :hamburger::tomato: — Fortnite (@FortniteGame) November 12, 2018 Inzaine also notes, with perhaps the most convincing piece of evidence so far, that a Durrr Burger POI was actually spotted in the game files by data miners. There’s no telling when we’ll find out if this theory is correct, but given the speed at which Epic Games releases updates for the game, we probably won’t have too long to wait. You can take a look at the full infographic of Inzaine’s theory below:

  • Controversy Brews in the $20,000 ‘Friday Fortnite’ Tournament Involving Nickmercs/SypherPK and the TSM Duo of Myth and Hamlinz – Dexerto

Controversy Brews in the $20,000 ‘Friday Fortnite’ Tournament Involving Nickmercs/SypherPK and the TSM Duo of Myth and Hamlinz Controversy has brewed in week three of the ‘Friday Fortnite’ $20,000 tournament involving two teams and a newly implemented rule. A tiebreaker match between the team of ‘Nickmercs’ and ‘SypherPK’ and the Team SoloMid pro Fortnite duo of ‘Myth’ and ‘Hamlinz’ had to be replayed because SypherPK allegedly did not adhere to the new stream delay rule. The two teams matched up in the second round of the competition’s Winners Bracket, and since the total kill counts of both sides were even after two games, a third game had to be played. After Nickmercs and SypherPK won the tiebreaker match and looked to move on in the bracket, Myth claimed that he had died at the hands of stream snipers and asked to make sure that SypherPK had the correct stream delay on. New tournament rules dictate that all participants of ‘Friday Fortnite’ who are live-streaming their gameplay must have at least a two minute delay on their streams, and after a closer look, it appeared that SypherPK’s delay fell several seconds short of that. However, during that match, they were notified that the decision had been reversed and they had to replay their tiebreaker match against their previous opponents because of the apparent violation of the stream delay rule. After a few brief moments of tension and frustration among all parties involved, Myth and Hamlinz agreed to take the loss and move to the Losers Bracket, giving Nickmercs and SypherPK the win after all. CouRage has two major gripes with Fortnite’s Season 7 update Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop can’t believe that not just one, but two, of his favorite landing spots have been removed from Fortnite in Season 7. The former Call of Duty esports caster has taken to Twitter to poke fun at Epic Games after realizing that both Greasy Grove and Risky Reels have been scrapped in the latest update. “My favourite landing spot, Greasy Grove, has been covered in ice,” joked CouRage. “My second favourite landing spot, Riskey Reels, has now been replaced by a giant concrete slab called The Block. • Controller aim assist in Fortnite is directly affected by your FPS – Dexerto

Controller aim assist in Fortnite is directly affected by your FPS As discussion regarding the power of aim assist in Fortnite continues to rumble on, it appears that the quality of the device you are playing on can have a major effect on a players ability to pick off opponents, as players with higher FPS see stronger aim assist while playing. Fortnite players have already discovered an exploit that allows those using a controller while playing Fortnite to snap their crosshairs onto enemy players with ease by quickly aiming in and out of their sights. Twitch streamer Upshall has conducted a test that shows that there is a direct correlation between the strength of aim assist and how many frames per second your version of the game is running at. 650In the test, which was conducted on PC, Upshall sets his FPS to 240, and performs the aim-assist exploit on an enemy who is standing in front of him, watching as his crosshairs are immediately pulled onto their head. Then, Upshall turned his quality down to 30 FPS and tried the same thing again, allowing viewers to see that the crosshairs are not pulled in nearly as far when the game is running at a lower FPS. Upshall was also able to prove that players who play with a controller on PC have an advantage over those who play on console, as aim assist is still weaker on 60 FPS, which is what the console versions of Fortnite run at. So…. FPS affects how hard aim assist drags. lmao pic.twitter.com/Ct5jmcUmO9 — Obey Upshall (@UpshallGames) January 31, 2019 This isn’t the first time that FPS has been directly linked to a problem in Fortnite. Previously, popular streamer Ben ‘DrLupo’ Lupo found that the rate of fire for guns was slower when playing on low FPS, an issue that the developers had to look into. Epic Games have yet to comment on this new problem, but it’s likely they will look to fix it in a future update. It’s unclear if this FPS glitch was introduced to the game in the V7.30 update, however for those struggling to complete this week’s challenges, you can use our handy Fortnite challenge guide.

  • Console Fortnite Player? How To Link Your Epic Games Account to Xbox & PlayStation – Guide – Dexerto

Console Fortnite Player? How To Link Your Epic Games Account to Xbox & PlayStation – Guide If you play Fortnite Battle Royale on Xbox or PlayStation, you should absolutely link your Xbox Live or PSN account to an Epic Games account – but it can be trickier than you think. The extremely popular battle royale game Fortnite owes much of its popularity to its availability on consoles – which sets it apart from the majority PC exclusive games in the genre. However, playing on console does have a slight caveat, as while you can if you wish play without linking an Epic Games account, it is very much recommended that you do. Essentially, with all the new ‘seasons’, skins, gliders, emotes and more that you can rank up and unlock (or simply purchase with cold hard cash i.e. V-Bucks), linking an Epic Games account to your console service is imperative. But, many players on console intitially and still do, ignore the in-game reminders to link your accounts up, thinking it an unnecessary hassle. However, if the Scottish boy who lost £400 worth of Fortnite gear taught us anything – it is that you link your account. Thankfully, reddit user SublimeBudd17 has created an excellent guide on how to link your accounts up and keep all your progress- even if you haven’t done it after months of Fortnite gameplay. • Console Players NICKMERCS and Aydan Go Back and Forth in Intense Tilted Towers Rivalry During Grand Finals of the Fortnite Summer Skirmish Tournament – Dexerto

Console Players NICKMERCS and Aydan Go Back and Forth in Intense Tilted Towers Rivalry During Grand Finals of the Fortnite Summer Skirmish Tournament Epic GamesThe Grand Finals of the Fortnite Summer Skirmish tournament on September 3 was dominated by various headlines and subplots, one of which was the intense rivalry between popular streamer NICKMERCS and Ghost Gaming player Aydan. While Nick and Aydan may differ in a variety of ways, there are two things they have very much in common when it comes to Fortnite: they both play with a controller, and they both love landing at Tilted Towers. The pair stuck to their Fortnite philosophy and play-style in the $1.5 million Grand Finals, as both landed at Tilted in all seven of their matches. As a result, they inevitably crossed paths a total of four times, with Aydan coming out on top each time. Their match-up became so common throughout the finals that the casters began every match with one eye on the Tilted Towers area of the mini-map, making sure to switch to the players’ POV whenever they got into an engagement. It seemed that Aydan had NICKMERCS’ number each time they faced, using a variety of weapon combinations and moves to consistently defeat the “king of Tilted Towers.” Epic Games even started humorously putting up an on-screen graphic labeling the location as “Nick’s Towers,” and changing it to “Aydan’s Towers” whenever the Ghost pro would come out on top. However, despite the appearance of the match-up being totally one sided, their engagements were all very tight and intense, and Aydan was the firs to admit that Nick’s level of play was very elite. The pair were interviewed during the Grand Finals, the players discussed their intense Tilted Towers rivalry and broke down each other’s strategies and techniques. Both NICKMERCS and Aydan did remarkably well in the tournament; the Ghost pro player placed 11th and took home $15,000 while the 100 Thieves streamer placed 17th and won $11,250. • Confirmed Fortnite x NFL Streamer Bowl teams – Tfue, Bugha, more – Dexerto

Confirmed Fortnite x NFL Streamer Bowl teams – Tfue, Bugha, more Twitch/FaZe Clan/Tfue/NickEh30/BughaTwitch Rivals have officially announced the teams for the upcoming Fortnite Streamer Bowl, with top-level Fortnite players competing alongside some of the NFL’s biggest names in a Super Bowl weekend duos tournament. The tournament takes place in Miami, the same city as the Super Bowl, on January 30, with 16 duo teams facing off in Epic Games’ hit battle royale title. With the teams officially announced, each duo will be battling it out for a $500,000 prize pool for a charity of their choice, making the initiative even more worthwhile. The teams are as follows: Kyle ‘Bugha’ Giersdorf and JuJu Smith-Schuster (Pittsburgh Steelers) – LosPollosTV and Jamal Adams (New York Jets) – Mason ‘Symfuhny’ Lanier and D.K. Metcalf (Seattle Seahawks) – Ben ‘DrLupo’ Lupo and Keenan Allen (Los Angeles Chargers) – Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney and Kyler Murray (Arizona Cardinals) – Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff and Mike Evans (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) – Tim ‘TimTheTatman’ Betar and Jonathan Abram (Oakland Raiders) – Ryan ‘Chap’ Chaplo and Kyle Van Noy (New England Patriots) – Cody ‘Clix’ Conrod and Tarik Cohen (Chicago Bears) – Nick ‘NickEh30’ Amyoony and David Morgan (Minnesota Vikings) – Malachi ‘Reverse2k’ Greiner and Baker Mayfield (Cleveland Browns) – Victor ‘elded’ Calderon and Kenyan Drake (Arizona Cardinals) – Aydan ‘Aydan’ Conrad and Kurt Benkert (Atlanta Falcons) – Dominick ‘UnknownxArmy’ Green and Avonte Maddox (Philadelphia Eagles) – NateHill and Eddie Vanderdoes (Houston Texans) – BrookeAB and Eric Ebron (Indianapolis Colts) – Of course, no players still in Super Bowl contention will be playing at the Streamer Bowl, given the magnitude of their upcoming matches and the fact that they have no choice but to focus purely on their football. That said, some playoff players will be available, with D.K. Metcalf, Kyle Van Noy, David Morgan, Avonte Maddox, and Eddie Vanderdoes making it to the post-season with their respective teams. They will be competing alongside some of the greatest names in Fortnite at the Streamer Bowl, so their chances of winning this may be slightly greater than it was of hoisting up the Vince Lombardi trophy. On the official Streamer Bowl website, there is also a ‘Purple Zone,’ “A video series featuring Twitch & NFL’s biggest competitors.” Although none of the content has been released yet, the players that will be getting their own Purple Zone video are JuJu, DK, Jamal Adams, Mike Evans, Tfue, NICKMERCS, DrLupo, and NickEh30. The Streamer Bowl kicks off at 3pm PT (6pm EST, 8pm GMT) on January 30, with the format of the tournament yet to be announced. Unlike the Super Bowl, no prolific half-time show has been announced, either.

  • Complete Fortnite’s Search and Destroy Challenges with one simple trick – Dexerto

Complete Fortnite’s Search and Destroy Challenges with one simple trick Epic GamesPlayers have discovered an easy way to knock out all of the challenges for Fortnite’s new Search and Destroy limited-time mode, but you’ll need at least one friend to make it work. To get players into the Valentine’s Day spirit, Fortnite kicked off the final event for Chapter 2 Season 1: Love and War on February 6. Along with all of the new cosmetics, there’s a new CSGO-inspired LTM called “Search and Destroy”, where teams of six group up to either plant bombs or defend bombsites, just like Global Offensive. A good number of the challenges for the Love and War event can only be completed in Search and Destroy, like “Plant or defuse a bomb in Search and Destroy Matches” twice. But, if you don’t want to try and complete your challenges while going up against players who are determined to try hard and show their CSGO skills good news: there is an easier way. Modes for Search and Destroy mode are available to play in Fortnite’s Creative mode and you can even complete the challenges there as well. At least one friend, preferably one who also needs to complete the challenges, is required for this trick to work, but it should make completing your Search and Destroy challenges much more efficient. Playing against the AI can make it easier for players to complete challenges by eliminating enemies, planting or defusing objectives, or just surviving the round. None of the six Search and Destroy-specific challenges are that difficult to begin with, so they shouldn’t take too much time at all in a Custom Match with a friend either. The Love and Wars challenges are still unlocking, and all of them will finally be available on February 9. They’ll be around until with the event February 17, so players should have enough time to grind for all the cosmetics they want. Love and War is looking like the last major event of Chapter 2: Season 1, with Epic announcing that Season 2 will be kicking off on February 20 after being recently delayed.

  • Competitive Player ‘Morgausse’ Wins Fortnite Summer Skirmish 1.5 Million PAX West Tournament – Recap, Highlights, and Final Placements – Dexerto

Competitive Player ‘Morgausse’ Wins Fortnite Summer Skirmish 1.5 Million PAX West Tournament – Recap, Highlights, and Final Placements Epic GamesCompetitive player ‘Morgausse’ has won the $1.5 million Fortnite ‘Summer Skirmish’ tournament at PAX West, the eight and final event of the eight-week long competition series. Morgausse accumulated a total of 11 points, good enough to lead the field of 100 players. Ghost Gaming pro player ‘Bizzle’ came in second with eight points, which was also how much Team Liquid pro ‘POACH’ got as he came in third. The points and placements of this week’s Summer Skirmish competition was based on a score system that prioritized both in-match placements and eliminations over a course of seven matches. VICTORY ROYALE: +3 POINTS 2ND-3RD PLACE: +2 POINTS 4TH-10TH PLACE: +1 POINT 3-4 ELIMINATIONS: +1 POINT* 5-6 ELIMINATIONS: +2 POINTS* 7+ ELIMINATIONS: +3 POINTS* *These points can only be earned once per match. For example, 10 eliminations would only earn you +3 points and any additional eliminations will not add points to your score. Morgausse took full advantage of the format as he got the maximum six points possible in his Match 3 Victory Royale, as he was able to accumulate 7+ eliminations. He maintained his consistent performance throughout the finals, taking points left and right thanks to strong placements and good elimination totals. Despite also getting eight points, Liquid’s POACH came in third due to losing the eliminations tie-breaker with Bizzle, which ultimately proved to be a $35,000 difference. POACH was the only player in the top three to not secure a Victory Royale, however, his eliminations did earn him a tie-breaker against FaZe Clan’s Nate Hill, who also had eight points but came in fourth. The final top-20 placements list can be viewed below, along with their base share of the $1.5 million prize pool. Summer Skirmish Week 8 Grand Final Final StandingsIn addition to their base share of the prize pool, the following players also earned a $25,000 prize for winning at least one of the seven matches in the Grand Final. The conclusion of this tournament brings the end of the Summer Skirmish competition series, in which Epic Games awarded a total of $8 million in prize money. While the entirety of Week 8’s $1.5 million prize pool was awarded in this final stage, this weekend’s tournament featured a long and extensive qualification process from August 31 – September 2, with the event open to all PAX West attendees who managed to register and met the eligibility requirements. • Competitive Fortnite players ‘banned’ for cheating during World Cup Qualifer can still qualify – Dexerto

Competitive Fortnite players ‘banned’ for cheating during World Cup Qualifer can still qualify Epic GamesEpic Games have temporarily banned a number of Fortnite Battle Royale players after concluding that they had been cheating, with one achieving Fortnite World Cup Qualification as a result, but some members of the competitive community believe their sanctions aren’t good enough. The game developer revealed the news via an official announcement on May 3, where they claimed that a group of players had intentionally attempted to undermine the Week 3 Fortnite World Cup Online Open competition on April 28. Each of the players involved has been hit with a 14-day competitive ban from the game and won’t be able to access any prizes from Week 3, due to the results of Epic’s internal investigation – the results of which can be found below. With a $30 million prize pool up for grabs at the Fortnite World Cup event, Epic have had to act fast to ensure that the players involved weren’t able to benefit from the games in which they had cheated. The Rise Nation’s XXiF was one of those who were banned by the developer, after fellow competitive player RBK HighSky showcased a video of the gamer in question teaming, or colluding, during the qualifier match. He tweeted the following clip on April 29, just a day after the match took place. Gonna leave this here @FortniteGame @EpicGames pic.twitter.com/4rfJAaBW0N — RBK HighSky (@ItsHighsky) April 29, 2019 Despite the ban, other members of the game’s competitive community – such as Ali ‘SypherPK’ Hassan from Luminosity Gaming – have identified a potential future issue with the short-term ban the players have received. With the players banned for just 14 days, they could potentially return for Week 6’s Online Opens – which is set to take place between May 18-19 – and qualify for the competition a second time. In a post to Twitter, the popular streamer echoed his concerns about the cheaters potentially coming back and doing the same thing to qualify for the World Cup after the ban has been lifted. *Potential Reality* Fortnite Commentator: “Here’s Rise XXIF and his team mate Ronaldo showing up big in today’s competition. Definitely an amazing come back after they were banned in week 3 for literally cheating. Glad to see them secure a duo spot in week 8 of the qualifiers.” — LG SypherPK (@SypherPK) May 3, 2019 Sypher is not the only professional player to have weighed in on the situation, though, as esports consultant Rod Breslau also branded it a “weak” response from the developer, considering they could potentially still qualify for such a lucrative event. FaZe Clan’s Nate Hill – who was banned by Epic Games for cheating in the 2018 Fortnite Fall Skirmish – was pressing for this group of cheaters to be prevented from playing competitive Fortnite even before the bans were announced. “Now there’s a guy (Xxif) and friends who have blatantly colluded, stole thousands of dollars, lied about it, ruined any integrity in online quals and encouraged others to team and cheat,” Hill tweeted on May 2. Now there’s a guy (Xxif) and friends who have blatantly colluded, stole thousands of dollars, lied about it, ruined any integrity in online quals and encouraged others to team and cheat. EPIC have yet to say a single word about it for a week now. Set your example on real cheats — Nate Hill (@NateHillTV) May 2, 2019 Whether or not the cheating players will be able to qualify for the Fortnite World Cup in a few weeks time remains to be seen, but Epic Games’ announcement has certainly caused some ambiguity among the competitive community.

  • Competitive Fortnite still struggles to find a format: Ninja, Parallax and more weigh in – Dexerto

Competitive Fortnite still struggles to find a format: Ninja, Parallax and more weigh in Despite being the most popular game in the world and having millions of dollars on the line in their esports competitions, Fortnite is still struggling to find a competitive format everyone can agree on. After the latest tournament, Week One of the Fall Skirmish, top pros and streamers took to social media to express their feelings on what the best format is for Fortnite esports. 100T Parallax complained that the formats valuing placings slow the game down too much and encourage camping. A higher kill incentive is required to make the skirmish games less laggy. More incentive to fight for scoring instead of hiding and turtling every zone. Wins should be a cherry on top while slaying out and preventing players from getting kills = more important. IMO. — Parallax (@100T_Parallax) September 21, 2018 Unlike Parallax, Liquid Chap is in favor of the high placings formats, claiming kill-incentives ignore the point of Battle Royale games – being the last person standing. compLexity’s Hogman agreed with Chap, saying Fortnite is a different game if you value kills over placements. Agreed, the entire game changes when you no longer care about being the last alive. I think the format was perfect this week. — coL Hogman (@Hogmanlolz) September 22, 2018 Ninja and Timthetatman weighed in on the debate as well and brought up the lag issues that are around in major events. Timthetatman had the viewers in mind when talking about formats and suggested kill incentives, like the defunct Friday Fortnite, were more entertaining for viewers. “[Friday Fortnite], from a viewer’s standpoint, was probably more entertaining to watch,” said Tim. Ninja seemed to agree, but doubted the ability of Friday Fortnite to return. Epic Games put a cap on the amount of prize money allowed for third-party tournament organizers, effectively cancelling Friday Fortnite in favor of their own Summer Skirmish series. Week Two of the Fall Skirmish will be on September 28, with a format that is to be determined.

  • Company with Job Opportunity Makes Applicants Play Fortnite During Interview – Dexerto

Company with Job Opportunity Makes Applicants Play Fortnite During Interview A European based entertainment agency is hiring two new interns – and will interview them over a friendly match of Fortnite Battle Royale. It is perhaps the most bizarre yet intriguing recruitment tactic yet, as Dare.Win, an International Entertainment Agency that works with clients such as Netflix, Spotify and YouTube, is using Fortnite to sort out the best candidates. With offices in Paris and Berlin, and over 50 ‘Darewinners’ on staff, Dare.Win is hiring two ‘creative interns’, but you’ll also need to know your way around a game of battle royale. Titled the ‘FORTNITE JOB INTERVIEW’, it is exactly as described. “Add DAREWINFR on PSN, we’ll interview you during a Fortnite game.” Creative director Damien Foui told The Drum: “We always recruit our talents through uncommon ways. It makes the challenge more exciting and so much more funny for both sides, compared to a basic job interview. The way someone plays can say a lot about their personality, especially about decision-making and how they deal with problems. We are looking for people that are cool enough to join us in an untraditional way.” It’s true that Fortnite, as with other battle royale games, could test an applicants resolve under pressure, but Dare.Win may actually be trying to put candidates at ease. Fortnite is by far the most popular video game on the market right now, and it seems like everyone and their dog is playing it, so it should be familiar territory for most. However, if you are not part of this group, and don’t like Fortnite, fear not, you can also send an email to IDontPlayFortnite@darewin.fr and apply the old fashioned way.

  • Competitive Fortnite Player Shows the Power of the Grappler With Impressive Killing Spree – Dexerto

Competitive Fortnite Player Shows the Power of the Grappler With Impressive Killing Spree Fortnite Battle Royale players are continuing to use the new Grappler item to produce some truly spectacular highlights. KARNAGE Clan’s ‘Billiard’ has now added his name to that list with an impressive killing spree that relied heavily on the improved movement that the Grappler offers. Billiard found himself caught in an awkward position, surrounded by numerous players and shot at from just about every angle, but decided to get aggressive and grapple his way forwards to take down the first of his first opponent before spinning and flying back in the direction that he came from to pick up a second. KRNG @BilliardYT out here showing us how you REALLY should be using the grappler in #Fortnite! UNLEASHTHEKARNAGE pic.twitter.com/jhhJeL42ry — KARNAGE Clan (@KARNAGEclan) September 9, 2018 Billiard wasn’t finished there, though. After taking down a third player in quick succession to wipe out one of the opposing squads, his structure was quickly brought down by another attacker, taking away his high ground advantage. Billiard wasted no time in pulling out the Grappler again and closing down the distance to his attacker in a matter of milliseconds before taking him down as well. Read More: Fortnite YouTuber Marksman Pulls Off Insane Grappler and Guided Missile Win – But His Opponent Isn’t Impressed – At this point, with the danger passed and all of his would-be attackers eliminated. Billiard summed up his feelings about the new item: “Grappling hook really [is] the best thing invented” With the amount of highlight plays and changes to the meta that the Grappler has brought along since its introduction, many Fortnite players would agree with that assessment! The Grappler was added to the game on September 6 as part of the V5.40 patch. The patch also marked the beginning of the highly anticipated “High Stakes” event in-game.

Apex Legends, the first true competitor to Fortnite, is launching its first season later this month so Fortnite will need to be on its toes if it hopes to ward off any competition. • Combining a Boombox and X-4 Stormwing could create Fortnite’s most powerful weapon – Dexerto

Combining a Boombox and X-4 Stormwing could create Fortnite’s most powerful weapon Epic GamesJust when you thought that planes in Fortnite were getting nerfed, adding a Boombox to your X-4 Stormwing could make them more destructive then ever. Epic Games added the Boombox just before the first round of Fortnite’s WSOE 3 event with a v7.10 #2 content update and one player is already weary of the terrifying combination of the X-4 Stormwing and the new item. By placing a Boombox on top of the X-4 Stormwing plane, the pilot will be able to keep it – and its power – on board and use it to tear threw materials like it did in the past. The clip below, which was posted to Reddit by user ilIuminated, shows that the Boombox can be attached to the attack plane very easily during a demonstration on the game’s Creative mode. “Just posting this here so it becomes meta and everyone rages at it, and they remove it” the user said. Epic has been trying to reduce the power of attack planes in Fortnite Battle Royale since they were added to the game at the beginning of Season 7, with recent patches ensuring that the pilot and those on board take damage when the vehicle explodes in the air. Also, the planes now take up to 50% more damage when they crash into buildings, following the v7.10 patch.

  • College Fortnite pros quit after winning CSLeague Nationals on stream – Dexerto

College Fortnite pros quit after winning CSLeague Nationals on stream CStarleague2, Twitch / Epic GamesMany top players have bemoaned the state of Fortnite’s competitive scene – but two college pros spoke out on the issue in a big way after taking a major championship. Rather than celebrating their victory at the Collegiate Starleague Nationals, University of Georgia pros Mister.Lemon and JACK0 made a surprising statement on the main stage following their win. “Honestly, we don’t really like the game that much,” one player answered after being asked what was next for the pair. “Epic is kind of messing around a little bit with the way they’re balancing everything.” Retiring from Fortnite due to Epic’s esports blunders He wasn’t alone in his sentiments; his teammate held a similar view on the matter, stating straight-up that the pair were officially retiring from the esport. “We’ve decided that we don’t want to play competitive Fortnite anymore, so we’re going to move on to different games and probably, like, do different stuff,” he claimed. Mister.Lemon and JACK0 wouldn’t be the first competitive players to speak out about Epic’s esport practices, by far; in fact, massively popular Twitch streamer Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins called out Epic in a scathing Tweet on April 28, claiming that Fortnite’s Arenas were “unplayable.” “Arenas are unplayable with the streamer mode not working,” Ninja wrote. “Getting 10 people landing on me at the edge of the FIRST circle every single game. … please fix so I can actually play/practice.” Arenas are unplayable with the streamer mode not working. Getting 10 people landing on me at the edge of the FIRST circle every single game. @EpicGames @FortniteGame please fix so I can actually play/practice — Ninja (@Ninja) April 28, 2019 Epic’s April Update Despite widespread player complaints, Epic Games have stood firm on their decision to remove Fortnite’s stretched resolution and siphon mechanic from its core modes, claiming that they “seek to avoid optional settings which provide players with a significant gameplay advantage.” Epic Games have also been known to introduce huge changes to Fortnite just ahead of major competitive events, as seen in the induction of the Boom Box item the same day as the $100,000 WSEO tournament – which saw even the likes of TSM Myth joke that the company was “trolling.” Some players are even speculating that season 10 might drop just before the Fortnite World Cup in July – leaving competitors nervous as to their chances in the competition. Epic’s statement on this matter was largely open-ended in their April 26 Competitive Development Update, but appeared to hint that updates to the “ever-evolving game” would not halt for its competitive circuit.

  • Clues suggest flooded map event ahead of Fortnite Season 2 – Dexerto

Clues suggest flooded map event ahead of Fortnite Season 2 Epic GamesPopular Fortnite YouTuber Alistair ‘Ali-A’ Aiken has shared another theory hinting at the possible map flooding event to end the first season of Chapter 2. Following the spectacular “The End” event to close out the first chapter of the Fortnite universe, players have been looking forward to what’s to come in the next stage of the game. As Season 1 of the new chapter is coming to a close, many fans of the battle royale have been coming up with new theories as to how Epic Games will ramp up the hype for yet another season. Fortnite YouTuber Ali-A shared one of those theories, suggesting that the Fortnite map that many fans are starting to get used to (and maybe a little bored of), could be flooded as part of the end of season event. Following some of the teasers hinting at King Midas from Greek Mythology making an appearance, with gold items spotted on the map, Ali-A claimed that Poseidon, God of the Sea, could also play a massive part in the new season. He expressed that it was possible that the end of season event could be caused by the introduction of a possible second Greek god, coming up with ideas on how it would be executed. “An idea I had was a big wave coming over the island, not only causing a lot of destruction and a lot of damage to the map,” Ali-A explained, “the funny thing is that could actually be happening in a slightly different way.” The popular YouTuber then went on to explain another teaser which was found on February 11, highlighting that one of the map’s points of interest even spelled out “Noah” from a birds-eye view, making it even more likely that a recreation of the classic biblical story could be on the cards. It is unclear if the potential event will result in the map staying flooded for the start of the new season, although if the event does take place, there will be some significant changes to the map regardless. Fans of the popular battle royale will not have too much longer to wait, as Season 1 of Chapter 2 finally comes to a close on February 20.

  • Ghost Gaming Fortnite pros Bizzle and Dmo win $10,000 Code Red Duos tournament – recap, final standings, info – Dexerto

Ghost Gaming Fortnite pros Bizzle and Dmo win $10,000 Code Red Duos tournament – recap, final standings, info BoomTV’s latest Code Red tournament for Fortnite Battle Royale has come to a close, with Ghost Gaming professional players Timothy ‘Bizzle’ Miller and Dylan ‘Dmo’ Moore taking home first place by a very slim margin. This week’s Code Red Fortnite tournament was played on March 15 and featured some of the biggest names of the battle royale community, all battling it out for a share of the $10,000 prize pool. A full recap and final standings are available below, and if you are not familiar with the format used in the tournament, make sure to read up on that in the format and rules section included later in the article. RESULTS – Recap and Final Standings Considering the fact that both Bizzle and Dmo are considered among the top Fortnite players in the world, it came as no shock to anyone that the pair took first place at this week’s Code Red tournament. What was surprising, however, was that it took the duo until the sixth round and a very slim lead to claim the top spot, as they had been hanging around the top ten pretty much the entire tournament without getting a taste of first place through the first five rounds. The earlier rounds of the competition were dominated by Team SoloMid’s Kaysid and FaZe Clan’s Jaomock, who led the field after three of the first four rounds, thanks to the fact that they finished first, third, and fourth in rounds one, two, and four respectively. However, starting from the fourth round, Bizzle and Dmo began taking the initiative, getting nine eliminations and a Victory Royale to propel themselves to second. A subpar performance in round five saw them slip to third, as Ghost’s Saf and NRG Esports’ Zayt briefly took the top spot with Kaysid and Jaomock sitting in second. In the sixth and final round, Bizzle and Dmo showed their championship resiliency by placing second and grabbing five eliminations, which was just enough to claim the top spot and secure the tournament victory. With the tournament now all wrapped up, here are the duos that finished in the top five and earned themselves a share of the $10,000 prize pool. The rest of the final leaderboard for the March 15 Code Red Fortnite tournament, including the match placements after each of the six rounds, can be viewed on the event’s website HERE. What was the format used in Code Red? Much like the previous running of the competition, this Code Red main event was played on a custom server, so it did not feature the usual ‘total of two kill race’ format we’ve been made accustomed to. 50 duos were placed in a custom server, where they played a total of six total matches – three on the NA-West server and three on NA-East. The scoring system used for this tournament rewarded teams based on both eliminations and match placements, using on the following breakdown: Each kill is worth 6 points – Who played in the Code Red main event? As usual, this week’s Code Red Fortnite tournament featrured some of the biggest names in the battle royale community, including pro players and content creators from prominent orgs like Ghost Gaming, Team Liquid, Team SoloMid, and 100 Thieves. Some of the more high profile duos include: SypherPK and HighDistortion – NICKMERCS and Nio – Bizzle and DMO – Myth and Commandment – Replays and Thiefs – Poach and Chap – Vivid and 72Hrs – The full list of participating players and teams can be viewed on the official Code Red Fortnite webpage. What is the prize pool of Code Red? The next Code Red main event featured a $10,000 prize pool, which was divided among the top five duos based on total points earned after the six matches. Total: $10,000 USD – 1st: $5,000 – 2nd: $2,500 – 3rd: $1,250 – 4th: $750 – 5th: $500 –

Clueless Fortnite player finds ultra-rare skin code worth thousands from years ago Epic GamesA Fortnite player has stumbled across an unused gift code years later that rewards them with one of the rarest Fortnite skins of all time. Fortnite has been enjoying new-found popularity following its record-breaking Season OG, and release of Chapter 5, which shattered even more player count records. Both major updates led to millions of players returning to the game, such as the introduction of LEGO Fortnite, and now with Christmas and the year-end period, more are storming back to the island. One player, in particular, was left baffled after they found an unused skin code that turned out to be one of Fortnite’s rarest skins ever. Fortnite player discovers ultra-rare skin code years later Xbox player Admirable_Zombie5245 revealed their discovery on Reddit, as they showed a photo of the unused skin code bundle. “So I bought a controller years ago and just found this, is it that rare? I’ve 0 Fortnite experience,” Admirable_Zombie5245 posted. After Fortnite players soon flooded the comments, they were baffled to find out that their gift code rewards them with an Eon skin, which has long been renowned as one of the rarest in the game. So much so, that Dexerto has it ranked as the 10th most rare skin in Fortnite. “For once, somebody’s asking ‘is it rare?’ and it actually is,” the top comment read, as another claimed: “those go for thousands I’d sell it if you don’t play the game.” Many players debated the worth of the Eon skin, where it was believed that the player could get “at least $500-1000,” with some even stating even higher if they chose to sell it. The Eon skin bundle, contains the Eon Outfit and 500 V-Bucks. • Cloakzy takes aim at one of Tfue’s annoying Fortnite habits – Dexerto

Cloakzy takes aim at one of Tfue’s annoying Fortnite habits Major personalities and players on streaming platforms like Twitch or YouTube often take it upon themselves to help their viewers, especially if they’ve subscribed or donated during the stream. There are few that don’t speak to their chat while playing. Cloak, who qualified for the Fortnite Champion Series Season X Finals alongside teammate Tfue and Thomas “72hrs” Mulligan this week, was clearly at boiling point when it came to his longtime friend dishing out critiques and tips to eager viewers. “You do a thing where whenever we fight someone, and they’re really bad and we kill them non-stop, you say what they’re doing wrong on-stream and then they don’t do the thing wrong anymore and it turns into a fight,” Cloak said. “You need to not say ‘Wow, these guys are really dumb for being so split’ because then they’re not going to be split. They’re probably going to listen to your stream.” It was a reasonable request for Cloak to make, considering he, Tfue, and 72hrs are trying to practice for an upcoming competition that has nearly $500,000USD on the line. Tfue saw it a little differently though, and defended the advice he was giving his viewers. “I’ve got sub-only vods,” the Twitch star said. “If they pay $5 for my advice then it’s gucci.” Perhaps the most humorous response to Cloak’s mini-rant at his teammate was when Tfue tried to get 72hrs to weigh in on the situation. The third man in the discussion was having none of it, however, and clearly just wanted to keep playing the game. “Honestly man, I’m just here so I don’t get fined,” said 72hrs in a deadpan voice. (Video starts at 5:30 mark for mobile users.) Of course, it’s all for a good cause. Cloak clearly doesn’t want to fall behind in preparations for the upcoming Season X Finals, while Tfue feels like he has to give back to the viewers that are supporting him in his subscriber-only streams. Tfue may just have to mute himself in-game before he dishes out advice for his fans next time.

  • Cloak reveals why he and Tfue missed out on Fortnite World Cup Duos – Dexerto

Cloak reveals why he and Tfue missed out on Fortnite World Cup Duos FaZe/Epic GamesFormer FaZe Clan Fortnite star Dennis ‘Cloak’ Lepore claims that stream snipers and griefers played a huge part in his inability to qualify for the Fortnite World Cup. While many competitive Fortnite fans may have thought that Cloak and duo partner Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney would be shoe-ins to qualify for the World Cup, the duo failed to make the grade. Despite dominant performances, the former FaZe Clan men fell short in the hopes of qualifying for the duos portion – with Tfue ultimately qualifying for the solo part of the event, while Cloak will have to watch from afar. Now, though, Lepore has lifted the lid on why he thinks they failed to qualify together. During his appearance on the Courage and Nadeshot show, Cloak explained: “Epic removed anonymous mode. Turner (Tfue) streams to 300,000 people – our qualifiers. We are first every single week by 10-15 points.” He continued: “As soon as we get to the end, the people who know they aren’t going to qualify end up being in our games multiple times and stuff like that – We end up choking. A lot of times there is nothing we can blame but ourselves, but 7 of the 9 weeks in qualifiers we have been under five points from qualifying.” 600Cloak also stated that the RNG (random number generator) aspect of Fortnite Battle Royale played a big role too, with some pros being able to nullify the impact that has on their matches better than others. Yet, he circled back around to stream snipers and explained that Tfue performs better while streaming and he couldn’t really ask his partner to try not streaming – especially when he peaks at ridiculous viewer counts. The former FaZe member continued to state that players who realized that they wouldn’t qualify because of time constraints and being behind on points, ultimately decided to turn their attention elsewhere. While these would-be qualifiers may have been professionals or high-level players, Cloak claimed that: “they are going to do everything in their power to prevent other people from qualifying.” The Fortnite World Cup kicks off on July 26 and runs through July 28 in New York City, with plenty of fans expected to be in attendance. While he won’t be playing, it remains to be seen if Cloak will attend and cheer on his long-time duo partner.

Following Turner ‘Tfue‘ Tenney’s tumultuous split with FaZe, Cloak appears to be the next high-profile exit from the Fortnite roster. There were a lot of hints to Cloak’s eventual exit, from him supporting Tfue through all the drama and letting him move in with him, but an official split was never announced until now. With Nick in and Tfue and Cloak out, there has been a lot of shaking up with FaZe’s Fortnite roster. Cloak is currently the team captain of the Fortnite team so someone else will have to step into this role following his departure. Nate Hill, Funk, Megga, and Dubs will all be representing FaZe representing in the World Cup despite the bigger names not qualifying. During his stream, Cloak confirmed he has been trying to leave FaZe Clan for six months, before all of the Tfue drama surfaced, and revealed he had the same exact contract as Tfue with the same percentages. He also shared some confusion about why they threw in the line about him being transferred. “I don’t wanna be transferred, so I don’t know why they put that in there,” he said. “I’ve been trying to leave for the past six months before the whole Tfue thing came out. I just went with the more passive route. • Cloak reacts to FaZe Clan’s recruit of Fortnite star Mongraal – Dexerto

Cloak reacts to FaZe Clan’s recruit of Fortnite star Mongraal Despite recently leaving the organization, Fortnite pro Dennis ‘Cloak’ Lepore has praised FaZe Clan for handing their new recruits “great contracts” after the org announced the capture of Kyle ‘Mongraal‘ Jackson from Team Secret. Back in May 2019, Cloak’s long-term teammate and friend Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney shocked the world when he revealed he would be suing the organization over an “oppressive contract”, which instantly sparked concern that Lepore was on a similar deal. Eventually, FaZe Clan released Cloak into ‘restricted free agency’, retaining his player rights should he eventually decide to join another team, but allowing him to focus on building his brand without competing under their banner. Since then, FaZe have continued to bolster their competitive Fortnite ranks, most recently signing one of the world’s top players in Kyle ‘Mongraal’ Jackson who was transferred from Team Secret. He said: “Shout out to Banks for making that happen”. Given Mongraal’s stature in competitive Fortnite, it’s more than likely that his contract will be extremely lucrative as his arrival boosts the org’s chances of having a winner in the Fortnite World Cup. The tournament takes place on July 26-28 in New York City, with the Brit qualified for both the solo and event, he must best former FaZe star Tfue in order to take home the $3 million grand prize.

  • Cloak and 72hrs respond after Tfue claims they lost him $140,000 – Dexerto

Cloak and 72hrs respond after Tfue claims they lost him $140,000 Konkrete/Twitch: CloakzyProfessional Fortnite players Dennis ‘Cloak’ Lepore and Thomas ‘72hrs’ Mulligan have responded after Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney accused the pair of costing him a $140,000, because he turned down a Madden 20 sponsor deal. Late on September 7, news emerged that Tfue has had something of a falling out with his trio partners 72hrs and Cloak. Tenney tweeted that he was looking for a new trio “who take competitive seriously.” He explained that he turned down $140,000 from EA to stream Madden 20, refusing the offer in order to play in the Fortnite Trios tournament, alongside Cloak and 72hrs. However, he was not aware that both his trio teammates had accepted the money to play Madden, leaving him with no playing partners, and $140,000 out of pocket. Tfue has also stated that his trio would have to reimburse him the money he missed out on for him to return to playing with them. Now, on September 8, Cloak and 72hrs have responded to try and explain their side of the conflict. “If he gets offered a bunch of money to play Madden,” started 72hrs. “Why wouldn’t he come to us and be like “yo, I have this deal, should I do it?” And then we’d be like ‘sure that’s a lot of money, go for it dude,’ and then we get offered the money too.” Mulligan also explained that he wasn’t aware Cloakzy had been made an offer to play Madden, but it would have worked out nicely had all three members accepted their offers from EA. “I even was willing to cancel the deal – which is bad for relations with people – in order to go play the tournament, if he [Tfue] was that upset over it,” finished Mulligan. Similarly, Cloak had little sympathy for his longtime duo, explaining that a lack of communication that caused the disagreement. “Why are these kids telling me that I cost the guy $140K?” said Lepore, “I did not know about the brand deal. I didn’t cost him $140K. I was not the one who was like ‘hey, don’t take this brand deal’, I didn’t even know about the brand deal.” Cloak’s argument is that it was entirely Tfue’s decision to turn down the money to play Madden and, had he discussed it with them, the issue would not have arisen. “What kind of idiot are you to decline $140K?” finished Cloak. “That’s not my fault you’re a dumbass.” Cloak clearly doesn’t seem too bothered about the falling out, even criticizing Tenney for turning down such a lucrative offer. While both players have now responded to Tfue’s allegations, it seems unlikely that we’ve heard the end of this, particularly given the strength of criticism from Cloak to his longtime friend and duo partner. We will continue to update you on this story.

  • Cloak and Dakotaz reveal how to do insane Fortnite zipline exploit – Dexerto

Cloak and Dakotaz reveal how to do insane Fortnite zipline exploit Twitch: Cloakzy/Epic GamesPopular Fortnite players Dennis ‘Cloak’ Lepore and Brett ‘Dakotaz’ Hoffman showcased just how crazy the game’s newest Zipline glitch is by catching on them from standing on the ground, and also while dropping into a match. Ever since they were introduced back in Fortnite Season 7, ziplines have had a variety of issues. There have been glitches that have seen players die instantly and others that have caused the ziplines not to work as they are supposed to. However, it appears as if the craziest bug with the movement system has been uncovered in Fortnite Chapter 2 as Cloak and Dakotaz managed to catch a ride on the ziplines – without being anywhere close to the normal range of initiating them. During their January 18 stream, the popular pair linked up for a few matches and immediately put the newfound exploit to the test while dropping into a game. While dropping and having his glider open in the sky, Cloak lined up his crosshair with the zipline and immediately clicked his action button. To his surprise, the Fortnite professional was immediately able to use the zipline – making his drop much quicker in the process. “Oh my God, you can – you can teleport down,” the former FaZe Clan member called out. Look straight down on the zipline and press E. Oh my God, what the…” However, the pair weren’t finished there. After Dakotaz managed to get the ‘high in the sky’ part of the exploit to work, Cloak tried to do it from the ground – repeating his method of aiming right in line with the zipline and hitting his action key. Of course, it worked perfectly and prompted Dakotaz to try it for himself. “What the!” the streamer called out as he was sucked up onto the zipline. “Oh my God bro, that’s cheating!” Some Fortnite players may have already stumbled upon this exploit but with popular players like Cloak and Dakotaz showcasing that it still works on their own streams, more and more fans will become aware of it. It remains to be seen as to whether or not Epic Games will make some sort of change in the future but they will need to do something to avoid it being a problem in competitive play.

  • Clix re-signs with Twitch ahead of Fortnite Season 4 FNCS – Dexerto

Clix re-signs with Twitch ahead of Fortnite Season 4 FNCS Twitch / Instagram, @msf_clixStreamer and professional Fortnite player for NRG, Cody ‘Clix’ Conrod has emerged as one of the battle royale’s most popular players and, now, officially re-signed an exclusive streaming deal with Twitch just ahead of Fortnite’s next big tournament. [jwplayer so0eN9Pk] Having won $162,000 at the Fortnite World Cup and amassed a social media following in the millions, the 15-year-old Clix is one of the biggest stars in Epic Games’ BR and, therefore, one of Twitch’s as well. With 2.4 million Twitch followers, the teenager is ranked by TwitchMetrics as the second-most watched Fortnite channel and the 43rd-most watched channel overall. As such, locking him down to an exclusive streaming deal was likely a high priority for Amazon’s streaming platform just ahead of the Season 4 Fortnite Champion Series Trios event. While contemporaries who grew in popularity thanks to Fortnite have moved on, like NICKMERCS and Tfue, Clix has remained one of the game’s biggest and most popular players. A cornerstone of the battle royale’s streaming presence, he and Twitch announced that he would be re-signing exclusively on October 8. https://twitter.com/ClixHimself/status/1313932181849411584 Back in July, NRG enlisted the help of NBA Hall of Famer and four-time champion Shaquille O’Neal to join the organization’s other Fortnite superstar, Benjy ‘Benjyfishy’ David Fish, in announcing Clix’s signing as a streamer. Just several months later, the content creator is being welcomed back into an exclusive contract by Twitch’s bank accounts, cementing a degree of stability for the teenage star. As for how he might use that new money, Clix seems intent on re-investing in his work. In a series of tweets, the 15-year-old explained that, out of a desire to enhance his quality on Twitch and comfortably stream more competitive matches and tournaments without FPS issues, he will be overhauling his entire setup. That revamped setup is expected to include a new camera and dedicated streaming PC. upgrading my whole setup no troll, gonna get a new cam for better quality facecams and streaming pc should come within 2 – 3 weeks and thats when ima start streaming most comp events — Clix (@Clix) October 8, 2020 As he elaborated in a reply to his own tweet, Clix doesn’t think he’ll be able to even stream certain tournaments until his new setup is locked in and ready to go: “I think I’ma play Dreamhack off stream because FPS is so f**king a**.” While fans have expressed disappointment in his decision not to stream competitive matches, they should be happy to know that he is prioritizing his performance in tournaments like the Season 4 FNCS. Further, they should appreciate that, with a new influx of re-signing money, his stream setup will be getting revamped in the near future.

  • Cloak addresses rumors about ‘beef’ between him and Tfue – Dexerto

Cloak addresses rumors about ‘beef’ between him and Tfue Fortnite star Dennis ‘Cloak’ Lepore addressed rumors of conflict with long-term teammate Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney, after they didn’t team up in the July 13 trio tournament. Cloak and Tfue are one of the most successful duos in Fortnite history, despite not qualifying for the World Cup, their victories at TwitchCon and other events have seen them scoop almost $1 million in prize money combined. The duo were expected to partner with Team Liquid star Thomas ‘72hrs’ Mulligan in the first ever official trios tournament taking place on July 13-14. However, the team fell apart at the last minute with Tfue choosing to play with FaZe Clan’s Sway and Misfits Gaming’s Cody ‘Clix’ Conrad instead. The decision took Cloak and 72hrs by surprise, with the pair both tweeting out they were looking for a trio to play with at the last minute. It also took fans by surprise, who took to Reddit and social media to speculate about a possible rift between the two former FaZe Clan stars. While playing with fellow streamer Ben ‘DrLupo’ Lupo, the Cloak addressed the rumors of conflict that emerged on Reddit, claiming the split was a result of conflicting schedules – not because there was any “drama”. Questioned whether there was real drama between him and Tfue, Cloak said: “Me and Tom normally played. But Turner gets on at like 11pm. I still thought we were going to play together but he texted me in the morning saying he’s going to play with these guys. “Me and Tom normally practice everyday until like 11, and then Turner would hop on at like 11.” On the day of the tournament, Epic Games announced a shocking change after failing to fix a bug that had appeared in the trio mode, perhaps suggesting their servers can’t currently handle so many elite level players together. If that’s the case, we may not be seeing trios in future tournaments, meaning it’s more than likely we’ll see Tfue and Cloak reunited very soon.

  • Clix stripped of Fortnite creator code over controversial “laxatives” tweet – Dexerto

Clix stripped of Fortnite creator code over controversial “laxatives” tweet Instagram: ClixCody ‘Clix’ Conrod is one of the most popular Fortnite pros today but the competitive star just had his Creator Code revoked due to a controversial tweet. While Clix has long been one of the biggest names in the Fortnite scene, the 16-year-old player can’t seem to help landing himself in controversy. From alarming Twitch bans to ‘illegal’ wagers, the young gun is always making headlines. Now, Clix has had a huge stream of income stripped away overnight. His ‘Creator Code’ is no longer active in Fortnite. This means fans can no longer make in-game purchases with his referral code. While it may not seem like a huge deal at first, Creator Codes grant 5% of revenue straight to the streamer or pro. With Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins confirming a hefty $5m payout in just one month alone, it’s a considerable hit to Clix’s wallet. “Lost my code,” Clix revealed on May 13. “Not really sure why.” At first, he thought it may have been due to a violation of Epic’s terms of service. Previously engaging in online wagers, he put a stop to such activity back in March. “Haven’t done viewer wagers since I got my first warning,” he confirmed. Just minutes after he broke the news, however, the reason became clear. A May 11 tweet discussing “laxatives” and eating out of toilets – no really – landed him in Epic’s bad books. Before the post was deleted, it gathered more than 15,000 likes along with hundreds of retweets. “I thought everyone would take it as a joke,” Clix explained. • Clix claims classic Fortnite skins not seen for “thousands of days” will return in new bundle – Dexerto

Clix claims classic Fortnite skins not seen for “thousands of days” will return in new bundle Clix / Epic GamesClix has alleged that he will be teaming up with Fortnite once again to bring back his original skin and cosmetic bundle, as well as release a brand-new Clix pack with several OG cosmetics. The top Twitch streamer and Fortnite creator partnered with Epic Games to launch his Clix Locker Bundle in Chapter 4 Season 3. This included the Sparkplug skin, Scrappy Back Bling and numerous other hand-picked cosmetics. On June 13, Clix was streaming on Twitch when he made the claims to his viewers that his previous and new bundle would be arriving shortly in Fortnite’s Item Shop during Chapter 5 Season 3: “June 24, in two weeks. I am bringing my bundle, the full Clix bundle and then I’m having another bundle after that. It is going to be a whole different bundle, that’s going to be hella OG s**t that hasn’t been out in f**king thousands of days, that just looks sick as f**k.” It is unknown what skins or cosmetics this new Clix bundle will include and the streamer has not stated a release date for the alleged upcoming bundle. Epic has yet to confirm if either of these Clix bundles will be coming to Fortnite. However, this hasn’t stopped players from speculating which classic skins and cosmetics will be included. Many called for different old collab skins to finally make their return, such as the OG Kratos, Travis Scott and Marvel skins. Despite this, trusted leaker and Fortnite creator HYPEX shut these down, “Definitely not collabs, I don’t think Locker Bundles can have those.” Others turned their attention to the legendary original Chapter 1 skins and cosmetics, “I mean maybe it’s Renegade Raider, Epic did say anything could come back at any time.” The fan-favorite skin has often been demanded by the community but hasn’t been available since 2017. Another added: “Praying for Fresh or possibly Kiss the Cup since Clix is goated.” This refers to two emotes that only appeared in the Item Shop once during Chapter 1. The Kiss the Cup emote hasn’t reappeared in Fortnite for nearly 2000 days and the Fresh emote has been out of rotation for over 2000 days. As soon as Epic or Clix confirms more information regarding his claimed skin and cosmetic bundles appearing in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3, we’ll keep you updated.

  • Clix calls for Fortnite to delete Season 3 sharks after DreamHack loss – Dexerto

Clix calls for Fortnite to delete Season 3 sharks after DreamHack loss Twitter: NRG / Epic Games[jwplayer ESyDssxd]Cody ‘Clix’ Conrad lashed out on the state of Fortnite Season 3 after dying in the most unfortunate way during a round of the $1.7 million Dreamhack Online Open. Clix has rapidly become one of the most popular North American Fortnite players in 2020. He even signed to NRG with an epic announcement from none other than NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal. Despite the fame, however, the Fortnite star has jokingly threatened to quit the game due to recent additions in Season 3. Epic Games not only dipped most of Fortnite’s map underwater with the Season 3 update, but a ton of new weapons, items, and mechanics also came into play. One of the biggest additions being loot sharks that appear at random to damage players and builds alike. While these sharks can be used as a means of getting around the map, they come with a surprising function. Dropping loot nearby can often be gobbled up as the sharks change color to match its rarity. Clix encountered this at the worst possible moment during the latest competitive event. A few games into the Solo Finals of the first DreamHack Online Open, Clix found himself in a sticky situation. Far from the safety of the zone, he was in the midst of a heated build-fight before closing out the kill. Things spiralled out of control from this point forward, however. When you down an enemy from a close range, you typically look to grab their loot almost instantly. Clix was in desperate need of building materials, so those were top of his loot-list. Before he had a chance to grab the loot it had fallen to the ground below. He might still have had time to grab it and make his way back to safety, except a random shark appeared and swallowed up the building materials. “Good f***ing game,” he repeated until his character was wiped out of the lobby. “I’m deada** not playing this s*** anymore. They added a shark that eats f***ing loot,” he yelled in frustration. While he had a few other games to improve his standings in the event, this loss certainly cost him in the long run. Clix ultimately finished in 41st place out of the 100 pros involved in the online tournament. He’s not the first competitive veteran to slam Fortnite’s third season either. Plenty of other pros have slammed the latest major update; Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney even went as far as to call it “unplayable” recently too.

  • Clever trick in Fortnite lets you use your opponents’ shot bloom against them – Dexerto

Clever trick in Fortnite lets you use your opponents’ shot bloom against them Epic GamesWinning a battle in Fortnite takes wit, skill, and resources to come out on top, but every now and then, even the best players can get stuck in a corner -which is why one player figured out a way to get the advantage by using the opponent’s weapon against them. Fortnite has various mechanics that players have figured how to use to get an edge on the competition, but this latest trick uses a trigger happy person’s weapon bloom against them. Reddit user and Twitch streamer ‘bumpaah’ explained how to severely punish players if they are persistent in holding down the trigger to break through someone’s defenses. Bumpaah shows that players attempting to break through a 1×1 build are focused on bringing down the walls as soon as possible. Depending on their weapon, after they break a player’s wall, their weapon bloom is out of control – leaving them wide open to a well timed counterattack. Hours after a successful day of competition in the 2021 Fortnite Champion Series, the NRG pro’s channel went down and feared this time it would be a “perma-ban” to boot. • Clever Fortnite trick makes the Charge Shotgun much faster – Dexerto

Clever Fortnite trick makes the Charge Shotgun much faster Epic GamesFortnite players have uncovered a simple trick with the new Season 3 weapon, the Charge Shotgun, allowing you to cut out the waiting time on its slow fire rate. The Charge Shotgun is one of the latest weapons to be added to Fortnite, since its release in the Season 3 update, and features unusual mechanics compared to other guns in its class. As its name suggests, the Charge Shotgun allows players to charge up their bullets in order to deal more damage, although this delay can be costly during gunfights. How to skip waiting time on Charge Shotgun This new gun requires players to hold their fire button before shooting, but players have found that double-clicking shoot can fire the Shotgun without being charged. While there’s still a short delay when skipping the charge this way, one Fortnite fan u/Alukarulz shared a trick to completely cut out the waiting time with a certain keybind. Alukarulz highlighted that by using their mouse wheel they could minimize the delay which occurs when tapping the fire button twice. Here’s what you’ll need to do. Open your settings menu and go to your ‘Keyboard Controls’ tab. – Select the ‘Fire’ button and add a secondary keybind using ‘Mouse Wheel Up’. – When you have the Charge Shotgun, you will simply need to scroll the mouse wheel upwards to fire. – Once you follow these steps you should be able to quickly fire shots off with the new gun, giving you the edge over your opponents in close range fights. Although firing it instantly does not have the same damage potential as its fully charged rounds, it can allow you to get a few shots off in quick succession. However, this clever trick is only available for PC players, as a method to skip the delay on a controller has yet to be discovered. It should not be too hard to find this Charge Shotgun in-game as multiple variants were added in Season 3, including a new Mythic Weapon which can be found in Catty Corner.

  • Clever trick gives Fortnite players easy materials using Decoy Grenades – Dexerto

Clever trick gives Fortnite players easy materials using Decoy Grenades Epic GamesA new trick has been discovered in Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 2 that allows players to get materials quick and easy using the newly-introduced Decoy Grenades. A number of new items were introduced with the update, including the vaulting of weapons such as traps and the compact submachine gun, and the un-vaulting of the minigun, heavy sniper rifle and many more. One new item that has been introduced to the battle royale title is Decoy Grenades, which spawn a clone of your character and can be used to distract enemies, making it the perfect getaway tool. Now, though, players have found an alternative use for it, farming mats using their own decoys. In the Arena game modes, siphon settings are in-play, meaning each elimination grants players health and 150 materials. Now, though, you can get your materials without having to even see an enemy player, let alone eliminate them. This is because the Decoys – whether purposely or as a mistake on Epic Games’ part – drop 150 materials when they expire after around 20-30 seconds, meaning that if you simply wait for them to die out, you get free materials with little to no risk. The best way to utilize this is to throw your decoys down in a box, meaning you can keep them all contained and within your sight, and you don’t have to go hunting for the materials after. With each decoy worth 150 mats, you can easily get 450 from a stack of three – or more, if you find them. The best part about this is that it doesn’t come at any cost to the player – it’s unlikely that Decoy Grenades are going to be used that extensively, so it’s simple enough to just pick some up and throw them down, with no concern of “missing out” on what the item is actually designed for. Read More: How to open loot vaults in Fortnite Season 2 – This makes it almost as efficient as the Supply Llama – which drops 200 of each material – when it comes to farming, making the rare item a little less exciting if you find it on the map. It’s possible that this wasn’t an intended game mechanic and Epic will be looking to fix it in the near future, so make sure you try to get as many Decoy materials as possible before they fix it for good – you might not have long to take advantage of it.

  • Clever Fortnite trick makes Proximity Mine a throwable explosive – Dexerto

Clever Fortnite trick makes Proximity Mine a throwable explosive Epic GamesFortnite players have discovered a genius trick with the Proximity Mine, an item new to Season 2, to make it a longer-range explosive and vastly expanding its potential uses. Season 2 of Chapter 2 introduced a multitude of changes to Epic Games’ hit battle royale title, including the vaulting and unvaulting of several weapons alongside new cosmetics, map changes and more. With Proximity Mines, players can throw them down in buildings or important areas to help them hold it down, giving them a warning of approaching enemies from their surrounding areas, but this trick means you can be much more aggressive with them. Posting to Reddit, user payBTCPayment showed several examples of how they add a bit of range to the Proximity Mine, able to take down enemy builds, deal damage to opponents, and even mark their location to keep them visible. It would appear that dealing damage to the Mine makes it move, with the first hit making it gravitate upwards (as it would when an enemy approaches), but then it can be shot or pickaxed while in mid-air to make it float off in a different direction. As evidenced in the Reddit post, it won’t go as far as the likes of the standard Grenade, but can still shift it a few metres ahead of you. Even if you don’t end up dealing damage to the enemy player, the X-Ray ability of the Mine makes it a worthwhile trick to learn to master, at the very least letting you track how many enemies are around you. This could be particularly effective if you use it in late-game situations, with enemies boxed up and in tighter confines of space, though you could be punished if you leave yourself too open while doing it. This probably wasn’t an intended use of the Proximity Mine when Epic Games added it to Fortnite, so it will be interesting to see how they respond to this, but for now it at least makes you think twice about whether you want to hold onto those Mines or not.

  • Clever Fortnite trick lets you play solely against bots – Dexerto

Clever Fortnite trick lets you play solely against bots Epic GamesFortnite players have found a simple trick in-game that lets them play in bot only lobbies during their matches. Here’s what you’ll need to do. Following Fortnite’s quick rise to success in recent years, Epic Games has decided to add in-game measures to keep new players coming back to the battle royale title. One of those features was for players with brand new accounts to find bot lobbies in their first few matches, but a clever trick has now been found to give you unlimited games solely against bots on your main account. Bot only lobbies can be quite useful, by allowing players to get a feel for the Fortnite map and modes before having to worry too much about their in-game opponents, who are completely controlled by AI. However, for other Fortnite players, bot lobbies can be a great tool for practice or for completing any difficult challenges that you might have available. To do this bot lobby trick for your main account, you will need to create a new account on a different platform to your first, such as mobile, PC, or console. Here’s everything you need to know. How to get unlimited bot lobbies in Fortnite Create a new account on a platform different from your main account’s platform. – Send your new account a friend request and accept it. – Have your new account create the lobby and join on your primary account. – Set the lobby to a Squads No Fill match. – Once you’re ready, queue up for the game by making both accounts ready up. – As soon as the lobby loads, simply leave the lobby on your new account. This account can not gain any experience for the trick to work. – Your main account should now be in a full bot lobby without any other players. – So there you have it, once you follow these steps you should find yourself in matches with AI-controlled characters as your opponents. It is worth noting that to make this trick give you unlimited bot lobbies, you will need to make sure you leave on your second account before it can get any experience. As of now, it is unclear if Epic Games has any intention of removing this simple trick, as it is not quite as impactful as some of Fortnite’s previous game-breaking glitches.

  • Clever Fortnite trick makes Charge Shotgun perfect for pushing enemies – Dexerto

Clever Fortnite trick makes Charge Shotgun perfect for pushing enemies Epic GamesA clever and simple Fortnite trick can make the brand new Charge Shotgun the ideal weapon to use when pushing opponents, despite the inherent delay to shooting. Fortnite Chapter Two: Season 3 finally launched 0n June 17, following multiple delays. The patch changed a host of features in Epic’s building battle royale. These changes included the vaulting of the Pump Shotgun, replaced by the Charge Shotgun which, as it sounds, needs to charge up prior to shooting to achieve maximum damage. While shotgun tweaks are nothing new in Fortnite, this new Charge weapon adds a wholly new dynamic into close range engagements. Because of the unfamiliar dynamic the Charge weapon adds, it may take some time for players to learn how to truly master the new shotgun. However, a simple trick shared on June 21 can make the Charge Shotgun a great weapon to push enemies, despite the delay before firing. Redditor ‘maxjoness‘ shared a clip showing that the new shotgun can be charged while opening a door, meaning it can be fired instantly upon the door opening. Pair this with a smart right-hand peak, and the Charge Shotgun instantly becomes more viable for pushing enemies. “You can charge your charge shotgun while opening a door for a powerful right hand peak shot,” they said. While the tactic can certainly work, many Redditors pointed it out that it has to be carried out correctly, or enemies with P90s will dominate. Do not peak before your shotgun is ready to fire is essentially the backbone of this tip. The timing may take players a bit of time to perfect but, seeing how well the Fortnite community has adjusted to new weapons and mechanics in the past, it should be no time at all before we see the tactic in high levels of Epic’s BR.

  • Clever Fortnite trick lets you defeat boss “without taking any damage” – Dexerto

Clever Fortnite trick lets you defeat boss “without taking any damage” Epic GamesAre you fed up with dying before you can defeat a boss in Fortnite? Check out this trick that lets you “trap” them before finishing them off. There are a ton of benefits you can get from eliminating a boss in Fortnite. Aside from keeping their Medallion to yourself, you’ll also get treated to a nice shiny legendary or mythic weapon dropped by that particular boss. The only problem? As you may have already experienced, it’s not always a walk in the park. First, you’ll need to deal with their minions. Not to mention, another player could sneak up and eliminate you in the process. Well, if you’re struggling to face one of the bosses in Fortnite, one player has shared a trick that makes it easier to get the job done. First posted in a Reddit thread, this trick involves trapping the boss using multiple Port-A-Bunkers in Fortnite. If you manage to align the bunkers correctly, the boss should be stuck in the middle, giving you and your squad the perfect chance to strike them down without getting your health chipped away. Port-A-Bunker is generally one of the easiest items you’ll find on the map. You can find them in chests or scattered on the floor in random houses. As for the weapon, generally, anything will do. However, spamming the Lightning of Zeus as seen in the clip does help make the process quicker. You can also opt for the Waterbending Mythic that recently just got buffed if you manage to find one. The OP claimed they discovered this trick by randomly placing bunkers one day. If you’d like to try this trick yourself, you’ll want to make sure to align the bunkers around exactly where the boss will spawn before summoning them.

  • Clever Fortnite trick allows players to instantly reset edits mid-fight – Dexerto

Clever Fortnite trick allows players to instantly reset edits mid-fight Epic GamesFortnite battles can turn into long, drawn-out battles that boil down to the player with the quickest edits and YouTuber MonsterDFace has come up of a way to instantly reset builds. Epic Games released its battle royale on September 2017, since then players have taken the simple gameplay mechanics the game features to take the competitiveness to an increasingly high level. MonsterDFace demonstrated a more streamlined technique for players to improve their resets by simply changing keybinds that will synergize two different inputs in the game. He explains that changing the Reset Building Edit and Building Edit commands to the same key would give the player simplified way to shed of crucial milliseconds from edits. “You’re in a battle. • Clever Fortnite trick lets players build and take cover faster after gliding – Dexerto

Clever Fortnite trick lets players build and take cover faster after gliding Fortnite Battle Royale users have found a neat new trick that allows them to build and take cover faster after gliding down to the ground. Apart from the initial glide down at the start of every match, there are several other situations that require the use of the glider, such as when jumping from X-4 Stormwing planes, using Rifts, or launching off Launch Pads. Gliding down can be risky, especially in late game situations, because gliders make a lot of noise and nearby enemy players can get alerted and start attacking even before the gliding player has reached the ground, putting them at an extreme disadvantage. In order to better combat this disadvantage, Reddit user ‘CharizardFactory’ has discovered that there is a way for players to build faster as soon as they do land so that they can protect themselves for enemy fire. Just prior to doing the action that will ultimately lead to gliding down (jumping from a plane, jumping on a Launch Pad, etc…) a player must pull out their building interface and press and hold the button to initiate a wall build. It’s essential that this be done prior to actually launching because it won’t work if one tries to pull out their builds while already in the air. Once that is done and the player is already in the air and gliding down, they must continue to hold the button down until they land, at which point the building mechanism will register again and a wall will instantaneously build in front of the player as soon as the glider goes away. Here is a video demonstrating how to do this trick and the difference it can make in building speeds, courtesy of Reddit user ‘ImSpeedyGonzalez.’ As the video above shows, this method is a 240 millisecond faster way to initiate building after a glide-down rather than trying to build a wall normally as soon as the player lands. That may not seem like much of an improvement, it is better than nothing, and most seasoned Fortnite players will tell you that certain situations can come down to split-second differences. Besides, there is no reason not to start using this since it’s simple enough to do and only requires that Turbo Building be enabled, which most players have on anyway.

  • Clever Fortnite fan has great idea for reactive version of Mothmando – Dexerto

Clever Fortnite fan has great idea for reactive version of Mothmando A clever Fortnite fan has come up with an amazing idea to turn Mothmando’s pickaxe into a reactive in-game item. Fortnite fans were ecstatic when Epic Games released the new Mothmando skin, a new Fortnite character that wears a helmet shaped like the head of a moth, with incredible bright yellow eyes and what appear to be antennae coming out of it’s head. Released alongside the Mothmando skin was the Flutterbug Glider, designed to look like the wings of the insect the skin is based on, and the Lamp pickaxe, a reference to the fact that moths are attracted to light. While fans love the Lamp pickaxe, they feel that Epic Games could make one simple change to improve the item even further. Harry34186 on Reddit suggests that when players start a game on Fortnite Battle Royale, their Lamp pickaxe be turned off, with no light emanating from the item. However, with each kill, the lightbulb inside the lamp should begin to glow to signify you are on a kill streak. The lamp would reach its brightest point when the the player has found 10 kills, shining brightly for all to see, although this may become a nuisance as players may be able to spot the light in the dark. The Mothmando skin was released on Thursday, November 29, although fans got their first look at it, alongside the unreleased Longshot and Insight skins, after dataminers leaked it from the V6.31 update files on Tuesday, November 27. Unfortunately, this idea is just a concept dreamed up by a creative Fortnite player, so fans of the game will have to wait and see if Epic Games decides to implement it into the game.

  • Clever Fortnite Helicopter trick lets you switch to autopilot – Dexerto

Clever Fortnite Helicopter trick lets you switch to autopilot Epic GamesWanted to use Fortnite’s new helicopters as a solo but not fly around like a sitting duck? There’s a way to kick the choppers into autopilot, with a neat little trick allowing you to keep shooting while in flight. Fortnite’s new helicopters have been a hit with players. The choppers were added to the game in the 12.20 Patch on March 17, with 11 vehicles now available around the map. The five-person helicopter obviously needs someone in the pilot’s seat to achieve take-off, however, a bug has been discovered that allows players to throw it into autopilot. Reddit user ‘Ryuzanami’ highlighted just how to pull off the autopilot trick using the newly-released Proximity Mines on March 22. After getting the mine, place it on the top of the helicopter, just behind the cabin. When you jump into the helicopter, it will start to detonate, however if you change seats to be on the outside, the mine won’t blow up. Read more: Where to find helicopters in Fortnite – Instead, it’ll give you the ability to fly, which then allows you to spend time shooting enemies instead of having to focus on getting around without dying. There are a few drawbacks to the trick though. You can only travel in one direction, and eventually you’ll lose the helicopter for good — either to a hill, or to the zone — as it will keep going unless you manage to shoot the Proximity Mine. However, if you want to confuse some enemies, the autopilot trick is pretty easy to pull off. It’s flashy to say the least, so the style points for getting a kill would be worth it. On top of that though, the trick could prove handy for some upcoming challenges, especially if you prefer to queue by yourself. A Week 6 Meowscles challenge revolves around dealing 200 damage to players while riding in a Choppa, with this trick making life easier for solo players. Epic are yet to comment on the trick, although given how popular it’s getting, it might not be long until it’s patched out. Until then, you can give it a crack by dropping in one of the various locations on the map where the Choppas are found. Don’t know where to go? Follow our guide to find them all.

  • Clever fan idea to change shotgun hitmarkers in Fortnite would solve aim problems – Dexerto

Clever fan idea to change shotgun hitmarkers in Fortnite would solve aim problems A Fortnite fan has come up with a way to change how hitmarkers with shotguns work on the popular battle royale title. Currently, Fortnite will show you the pellet spread of your shotgun when you fire it, with small red dots in the weapon’s crosshairs highlighting where your shots went after you fired it. However, it doesn’t actually highlight which of your pellets made contact with an enemy, meaning that while you think you landed every pellet on an opponent, only one might have actually hit an enemy player. Fortnite fan Luckyy___ on Reddit may have come up with a solution to this problem, with a small change to the weapon’s crosshairs that would help you know exactly how many of your shotgun pellets hit. Any pellet that hit an opponent on the neck or lower would remain red, however any that connected with an enemy player’s head would turn yellow, immediately alerting you to the fact that you had hit them with a headshot. Any pellets that missed their target or dealt damage to a structure would become grey, indicating that no damage had been taken by an opposing player, while some have suggested a vibrance scale to show the rate of damage falloff for shots that travel longer distances to hit their target. The creator states that while this would help players ensure they were hitting their shots, it would also help Fortnite players recognize any issues or bugs regarding the firing process, as players would be able to see what damage was dealt in comparison to where they were aiming for. Unfortunately, while this seems like a great idea, there are currently no plans for Epic Games to add this to Fortnite, although the developers have announced significant changes to shotgun balancing set to release in an upcoming patch.

Fortnite Welcome to Pandora challenges Claptrap Eye location revealed The Welcome to Pandora challenges are now live in Fortnite Battle Royale, but if you don’t where to find Claptrap’s Missing eye then you’re not going to be able to complete them. That’s where our map comes in. Epic Games finally dropped the v10.20 update for Fortnite on August 27, with major map changes coming in the desert biome. While some fans were expecting the return of an old point of interest, they were greeted with ‘Pandora’ in a crossover between the Battle Royale and the popular Borderlands franchise. Entering the new Rift Zone will give your game have the appearance of the iconic Borderlands art style, yet, there are also free rewards to be gained. These come thanks to the Welcome to Pandora challenges, where you’re tasked with exploring the area and finding some hidden items. One such item is Claptrap’s eye. If you’re a Borderlands rookie, Claptrap is a helpful, yellow robot with a hilariously distinct voice that helps you on your way in the adventure title. He’s made his way to Fortnite in the form of a Back Bling in the Psycho cosmetic set, but the actual character can also be found wheeling round in the Pandora Rift Zone. To help him out, you’ve got to scour the area for his missing eye – but don’t fret, you won’t have to waste too much as we’ve got you covered. The missing eye is located in the building closest to the sea in the new rift zone, just below the mountain that separates players from the water – it’s located on our map with the blue marker. You want to go inside this building’s lower level and look for the television that is located by a chair and a fridge. There, in front of the TV, you’ll find a small blue eye. Simply pick it up and return it to Claptrap. However, if you don’t even know where he is, don’t worry, he isn’t that hard to find and it’ll only be a difficult task to complete if you’re being chased an enemy. Simply head back to the Welcome to Pandora sign that is found before the desert meets the normal grassland in the south-east portion of the map. He’ll be stood underneath this sign performing his signature wave. So, what are you waiting for? Go and jump into Fortnite now, head to Pandora, and help Claptrap get his eyesight back!

  • Cizzorz announces his return to Fortnite Deathruns after 1824 day hiatus – Dexerto

Cizzorz announces his return to Fortnite Deathruns after 1824 day hiatus Twitter: CizzorzFaZe Clan member and well-known Fortnite Deathrun creator Cizzorz has announced his official return after an 1824 day hiatus. When Fortnite introduced creative islands back in 2018 the community instantly began creating parkour maps, mini-games, and more. Years later the Fortnite creative system has brought dual battles, build competitions, and yes, Deathruns. Deathruns are exactly what the name suggests, a map where players run through a course actively trying to kill them. These Deathruns have been around for longer than Cizzorz has been creating them, but he is considered one of the best in the community. Despite Cizzorz’s rise to fame he stopped making Deathruns altogether around the start of 2020. Since then Cizzorz has focused on making content outside of Fortnite and most recently teasing the release of his new run. “Fortnite Map Creators & community: I appreciate the love, feedback, and advice on my 1st map back in 5 years!! My new Deathrun doesn’t compare to stuff I’ve seen everyone make…. But I had one hell of a time making it and hope you’ll enjoy it.” said Cizzorz before the reveal on Twitter/X. Cizzorz’s new Fortnite Deathrun releases on April 27 and will be his first new map in 1824 days, as showcased in the reveal video. The video gives some insight into what the player can expect when jumping in, including spiked walls, pits of fire, and multiple levels of parkour. Cizzorz has revealed that his latest Deathrun will feature 20 challenging levels, taking players on a journey through various environments, including outer space. The Deathrun can be accessed through the creative island search in Fortnite by inputting the code when it is available.

  • Cizzorz reveals first look at new Deathrun 3.0 Fortnite obstacle course – Dexerto

Cizzorz reveals first look at new Deathrun 3.0 Fortnite obstacle course Popular FaZe Clan content creator Cizzorz has revealed yet another addition to his infamous ‘Deathrun’ obstacle course series in Fortnite Battle Royale. This new Deathrun 3.0 course will be the third installment in what has become arguably the most popular set of obstacle courses in Fortnite’s Creative mode. Much to his amusement, Cizzorz make these Deathrun courses incredibly difficult, as they feature levels upon levels of traps, treacherous falls, traps, narrow ledges, near-impossible jumps, traps, and frustrating diversions. Oh, and did we mention traps? In a video he published on February 11, Cizzorz gave players and fans the first glimpse at what is to become Deathrun 3.0, as there is still a lot of construction needed to be done before the course is finished. There is still no confirmation as to how many levels there will be in this Deathrun, but if the previous ones are anything to go by, it should have plenty for players to have to deal with. In the video, Cizzorz reveals that the Deathrun 3.0 will have a major difference from the previous two courses in that it will be a lot more doable for the average player. The way this one will work is that its earlier levels will be a lot easier than before, but then the difficulty will be drastically increased for the later levels. This comes after many complained about the previous courses being too difficult, despite the fact that good number of players were able to complete them. As with the previous two Deathruns, the third version will also be featured in a time-trial competition, with the prize money set at a whopping $25,000! Make sure to follow us on twitter @Dexerto and monitor our Fortnite page as we will continue to provide updates about any potential competitions that Cizzorz decides to host.

  • Child predator allegedly “groomed” children using Fortnite – Dexerto

Child predator allegedly “groomed” children using Fortnite While Fortnite Battle Royale has seen immense success since its release in 2017, it looks as though the game might have been utilized in one of the most disturbing ways possible. Anthony Gene Thomas, a 41-year-old Floridian, has been accused of unlawful sex with a minor as well as being in possession of various forms of child pornography. According to an official statement from Florida attorney general Ashley Moody, Thomas’ main method of meeting children was through voice chat in Fortnite. Once he came into contact with the victim, Thomas allegedly groomed them using money and other gifts, including a cell phone used to keep in close contact. This eventually led to a meeting in person at Thomas’ home where the sexual offenses took place. After the child was reported missing and later returned home, police searched Thomas’ home, finding pornographic images and videos of the victim. While this victim is the only known one to have reportedly come into contact with Thomas, police believe there could be as many as 20 additional victims still to be found. Given that this crime happened using Fortnite’s in-game voice chat, parents are being encouraged to pay close attention to their children’s interactions online. “Additionally, parents need to know that predators will use any means possible to target and exploit a child. I am asking parents and guardians to please make sure you know who your children meet online, and talk to them about sexual predators,” urged Moody in her official statement. While voice chat is a popular mode of communication for online games, this case is just another example of the potential downfalls of such forms of contact. It should be noted that voice chat can be disabled in the settings menu of Fortnite and every other online title.
