Starbucks barista leaves epic surprise for customers to find in morning FlickrA Starbucks employee created a surprise and left it on the countertop for fellow baristas and guests to find the following day, and it really got people talking. In a Reddit post that’s gone viral, a Starbucks barista went to some lengths to make the morning shift more interesting for her fellow baristas. “Left a surprise for our openers tomorrow,” the title of the thread reads. In the image, we can she she’s decorated three cups like people, one wearing a pair of glasses, with metal tongs as feet. There’s a note attached to him that reads “Yes, I’m waiting for a grande chai with no foam, no water, no chai, extra hot for Dave.” There’s also a female cup, complete with pouty lips, and a smaller cup, that’s holding some packets of sugar in his head, and demanding a cake pop. After the picture was posted on the platform, people were delighted by the surprise the barista had left on the countertop, writing: “You guys sound like epic coworkers lol! I love working with people who can work hard and have fun!” “They should get a kick out of that!” another wrote, predicting her co-workers reaction when they found it the next morning. “Oh gosh I just noticed the siren logo is the baby’s binky! I thought the little circle above was the child’s tiny mouth but maybe it’s actually a nose? Either way, walking into work to see this would make me giggle!” another said, delighted by the woman’s drawings.

  • Starbucks barista reveals popular item is about to double in price – Dexerto

Starbucks barista reveals popular item is about to double in price Wikimedia CommonsA Starbucks barista took to Reddit to share a popular item that is about to double in price. This item in question is none other than the chain’s beloved bottled syrup, which is currently being sold in store, and continues to be a popular item among customers. She shared an image of the computer at Starbucks, reserved for employee’s only, that reads ‘beginning 3/18, the price for bottled syrups available for customers to order will increase from $12.95, to $24.95.’ This includes classic, caramel, vanilla, and sugar free vanilla syrup. Reddit can’t believe Starbucks price increases After the post was made on the platform, people couldn’t believe the price increases displayed by the brand. “Who the f**k is going to pay $25 for 1 liter of unflavored boiled down sugar water? That’s literally all that classic is,” one user wrote. “I don’t understand the end goal of the people making these choices. I mean, obviously, it’s to squeeze as much money out of customers as possible but do they not have people who also realize how much of their customer base they’re pushing out?” another asked. One customer had a suggestion for syrup fans: “Tornai and Monin are so good! If you have a Ross and T.J.Maxx / Marshalls stores nearby you’ll likely run into a few bottles!” Many agreed, saying that they’d tried the less expensive dupes and that they tasted just as good, if not better. “$7 bottles of Torani or Monin from Marshalls is my go-to and taste much better.” Another Starbucks barista went viral in February, when they revealed their most hated drink order.

  • Starbucks barista goes viral with list of what ‘annoying’ customers should do when ordering – Dexerto

Starbucks barista goes viral with list of what ‘annoying’ customers should do when ordering Unsplash: angelica reyesA Starbucks employee created a viral list of what they expect from customers ordering at the drive-thru, and some of it might surprise you. On a popular Reddit thread, a Starbucks employee made a viral list in the hopes of customers seeing it. They say it will help to make the whole ordering experience run more smoothly. Number one on the list: “Know what you want ahead of time. If you know you are going to Starbucks please know what you want or ask for recommendations, it keeps things flowing and the baristas can do their jobs efficiently.” Number two relates to greetings, “When you get to the ordering screen, wait for the greeting. we are told to greet everyone so there WILL be a greeting…please do not yell into the screen as soon as you pull up. Also, keep in mind that there is a good chance the barista taking the order is doing other tasks for their job.” Number three speaks about customers’ manners “We appreciate manners. a simple please and thank you will do. We are human beings too.” Others involve pulling up close to the window, and being payment-ready. Another states: “We don’t appreciate commands. It’s very discouraging when people start their sentences with “give me a…” or “y’all better have…” People weigh in on viral Starbucks list After the list was posted on Reddit, many were eager to weigh in with their thoughts: “I’m so sad to see that baristas feel the need to post this. It just shows how s**t we’ve been treated when all we’re doing is our jobs.” “PLEASE pull close to the window! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve went home with literal bruises on my hips from leaning out the window,” another shared, followed by a crying emoji. One barista claimed that customers greeted them after pulling up to the screen, instead of waiting until the barista is ready to serve them: “Is it annoying? Yes. Fuck yes. Holy shit, yes, but telling them not to greet you at the screen, or even a “Hey I’ll help you when we’re ready” will not change this behavior.” One had their own rules that they’d like to add to the list: “We can hear what you say at the box. So that knock about our jobs, the high pitched giggles about something you think is funny but really isn’t or personal conversations we can hear and we will judge you for it. Don’t want prying ears? Wait the 5 minutes until you leave the window with your drink.” Another Starbucks employee went viral after an altercation they had with a ‘Karen’ at the drive-thru.

  • Starbucks barista chases customer to car after she complains about order – Dexerto

Starbucks barista chases customer to car after she complains about order TikTok / CanvaA Starbucks customer made a TikTok showing the horrifying experience she had with an outraged barista over a single drink. TikToker @thisisverucasalt posted a viral video that currently has over two million views depicting an experience she had while waiting for her mobile order for ten minutes at a Starbucks in Long Island. The customer claims that she had been “trying to kill these baristas with kindness. So polite I wasn’t gonna say anything.” According to the video, she started recording because she heard her barista whisper to another barista that she was going to spit in her drink because she “asked so nicely for it unsweetened.” The situation escalates when the customer records the barista saying, “I placed an order ten minutes ago and this monster is screaming at me.” In a shocking response, the barista furiously throws a drink on the floor in front of the customer and the rest of the people in the store and yells, “You wh*re, get the f*ck out!” The video becomes even more chaotic when the customer runs out of the store into her car, with the barista chasing behind her, while both shout, “F*ck you, b*tch!” at each other. The video states that, “At the end you can see me running for my life as she chases me to my car and tries to break in but I locked it just in time.” The customer currently has comments turned off on her TikTok, but has made a video in response to “thousands of people” who are accusing her of editing the video to cut out sections where she instigates a fight. She states she categorically did not do this and only edited out sections where the barista was swearing at her because TikTok kept taking the video down. This terrifying experience clearly frightened the customer, and she stated that the barista knew she was being recorded but “decided to have an exorcism at her job.” The TikTok jokes that the barista looks similar to Danielle Bregoli (or Bhad Bhabie), who went viral for her equally aggressive interview with Dr. Phil in 2016 where she shouts, “Catch me outside, how ’bout that?” Although the videos may have the same vibe, it’s clear that it’s not Bregoli in the video.

Starbucks barista claps back at preachy customer who told her she was “going to hell” Wikimedia CommonsA Starbucks employee clapped back at a customer who told her she was going to hell because of the way she looked. The Starbucks employee in question took to Reddit to share the bizarre encounter she had with the customer. The strangest thing? He was a regular at the store. She relayed the interaction for readers: “Customer: I hate tattoos. Me: That’s sucks, I love them. Customer: You’re going to hell for those sinful things ‘motions at my arms.’ Me: Good. “This is what I was told today by a REGULAR! He comes in everyday and is usually nice and chatty except towards people who have tattoos, piercings, etc… This isn’t his first time telling someone that either!” People angry at Starbucks customer After the poster shared their experience on the platform, people vented their frustrations over the preachy customer. “For a moment, I thought maybe it was my mother-in-law that you were conversing with, until you said ‘he,’” one joked. “As someone who’s a customer with vibrant hair, two full sleeves and a leg sleeve in progress, they can kick rocks,” another told the OP. However, a store manager on the platform, thought the situation was more serious, writing: “This is harassment and deserves an incident report.” “This would not be a work-appropriate thing to say. When you’re harassed at work, you have to set the boundary immediately. If you don’t feel comfortable saying that back, it’s okay. Your supervisor or manager can do it for you,” another agreed. Another Starbucks barista went viral, after they ranted about people who kept ordering made-up TikTok drinks.

Starbucks barista calls out “old men” customers who touch her for no reason deliberately Unsplash: qui nguyenA Starbucks barista called out customers after “old men” repeatedly kept grabbing her hand when she was serving out coffee. A frustrated Starbucks barista took to Reddit to vent her frustrations surrounding customers touching her hand when she gives them their coffee. “Been at Starbucks for a couple months already since returning, and lately I’ve been noticing whenever I’m on drive-thru and handing a customer there drink, with clearly enough room so that they don’t grab my hand, they still end up grabbing my hand anyway and it’s always older men,” she said. She goes on to explain that she has to wash her hands and sanitize each time this happens. She claims that she asked a customer to not touch her hand, and that he looked “shocked,” and asked why. She told him that it made her feel uncomfortable, to which he replied that “‘he wasn’t doing anything bad,’” so I was just like… ‘have a nice day.’” Baristas frustrated over Starbucks customers touching hands Many baristas were able to relate to the post, writing that the same thing happened to them on a regular basis: “I literally feel like I’m insane for being so bothered by it but yes! It’s one of the biggest reasons I hate being on the window! don’t touch me!” One had some advice for fellow baristas: “I started handing the cup out by holding it at either the top or the bottom. like the lid is in my palm or the base of the cup is in my palm. it hasn’t completely eliminated the unwanted hand touches, but it has cut them down significantly. However, this didn’t seem to deter people: “I will hold the cup from the top so they can conveniently grab it where 99% of people hold cups naturally and they’ll still touch my hand. I just set every cup down now, even if they’re ready to take it.” Another Starbucks barista went viral after they “accidentally gaslit,” an elderly customer.

  • Starbucks adds two drinks new to lavender range – Dexerto

Starbucks adds two drinks new to lavender range StarbucksStarbucks launched a lavender range to celebrate Spring, and two new drinks have just been added. On March 7, Starbucks launched a range of lavender-flavored coffees to kickstart Spring, and they have just added two new refreshing beverages to the menu. These beverages will likely be a hit with kids and those who aren’t fans of coffee, as there is no caffeine in either of the two new options. The two new drinks are: Lavender Oat Milk Chill This drink is served iced and is made with oat milk as standard (but you can choose another milk if you’d like). It combines lavender powder, milk, ice, and dragonfruit pieces that are shaken in a cocktail maker to produce a lilac-colored drink that reviewers have noted tastes like Froot Loops. Lavender Creme Frappuccino This fragrant take on Starbucks classic frappuccinos combines milk, ice, lavender powder, vanilla syrup, and whipped cream to create a milkshake-style beverage that is the perfect addition for the upcoming transition into the summer. These drinks are, however, only available at all US Starbucks stores whilst stocks last. So, there is a good chance you’ll miss out if you’re not quick – or if you don’t live in the States.

  • Sprite bring back discontinued fan-favorite drink but it’s only available at Wendy’s – Dexerto

Sprite bring back discontinued fan-favorite drink but it’s only available at Wendy’s Wendy’s / Coca-ColaA Sprite flavor that hasn’t been available since 2006 is now up for grabs at Wendy’s restaurants across the nation. In the early 2000s, Sprite launched a line of flavors called Sprite Remix. This line only lasted about three years, but included three interesting flavors: Tropical, BerryClear, and Aruba Jam. These drinks were a fruiter version of the lemon-lime soda we all know and love, and although they didn’t last long at the time, they have slowly been brought back under different names – like Sprite pineapple which is available today. The Sprite Remix Aruba Jam flavor is now officially back in Coca-Cola Freestyle machines at Wendy’s restaurants. These freestyle machines are known for their hundreds of flavor combos, and now you have an extra one to be indecisive over. This new addition was spotted in a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine in Atlanta at the start of May but has since become available at all Wendy’s locations with these machines. But be quick, because the Sprite flavor will disappear again on July 31. Although Sprite described this drink as ‘fruit-flavored’, a food blogger suggests that it has, “a hint of pineapple, coconut, and some orange.” They also note that it has a strong aftertaste of strawberry, that mixed with the classic lemon-lime flavor of Sprite, tastes like an actual strawberry and not the artificial kind you find in drinks and candy. Although Coca-Cola has a strong relationship with McDonald’s, they have opted for Wendy’s for this exclusive, and they couldn’t be launching this drink at a more perfect time. For the entirety of May, Wendy’s is giving its customers free drinks with any purchase. As long as you order through the Wendy’s app, you can get any sized drink for free, including the new Sprite. This offer is for delivery, dine-in, and takeout customers. If you’re not sure if your Wendy’s has a Freestyle Coca-Cola machine, then you can check out the Coca-Cola site to locate one. This isn’t the only strange soda that you’ll find in the US, if you ever find yourself in Epcot, you can check out the notorious Beverly soda from Coca-Cola.

  • Stanley cup accessories keep getting weirder: TikTok trend explained – Dexerto

Stanley cup accessories keep getting weirder: TikTok trend explained TikTokAs if a ginormous drinks tumbler wasn’t enough, now, your drinks tumbler needs its own backpack, too. The newest TikTok trend involves stacking your Stanley Cup with crazy accessories, and it’s leaving people infuriated. First, people were buying one Stanley Cup, then two, then they were queuing up at Starbucks at 3am for a cup that costs $60. And now, we’ve gone one step further. The “Pack my Stanley with me” trend has amassed hundreds of millions of views, but what’s it all about? Stanley girlies are finding new ways to make use of their Stanley Cups, and the accessory ideas just keep coming: In this video, we can see creator Emily getting ready to go on a walk. First she fills her cup with water and tiered ice cubes that fit the size of the cup. On the outside, she attaches a backpack with sanitizer, a fan, sun cream, and deodorant. On top of that, she attaches her car keys, a claw clip, and little holders for her sunglasses and individual pieces of chewing gum. People in the comments couldn’t believe their eyes, writing, “I really love the minimalist beige with the soul-crushing overconsumption.” Another simply noted, “Hi! So this is actually insane.” There are even Stanley keychains, so that your Stanley can have a Stanley. If you’re more into unwinding on the couch with your Stanley, check out these crazy food trays that go on top of your cup: These videos have people equally as angry, with some practical thinkers asking “what happened to plates?”, and “How do you not get your food all over your face when you’re taking a drink?” Others were just confused, joking that these kinds of videos were, “peak brainrot content”. A Stanley cup can cost anywhere between $45 and $65, but some limited edition ones go for as much as $290 on eBay. With all of the accessories on top of that, you could be looking at hundreds of dollars for drinking water. This kind of content has become popular for a number of factors. Firstly, it’s great rage bait for angry commenters. Secondly, anything to do with Stanely Cups is bound to get likes, and thirdly, TikTok is the home of overconsumption, and people love to see the extent creators will go to for “convenience”, even if it’s expensive and definitely not more convenient than just carrying a bag. Speaking of overconsumption, Mukbang content is at an all-time high on TikTok, but has it gone one step too far?

  • Sour Patch Kids Oreos are totally baffling cookie lovers – Dexerto

Sour Patch Kids Oreos are totally baffling cookie lovers TikTok: @kingschratzA video has been circulating TikTok, featuring Oreo’s new Sour Patch Kids flavor, and the new snack has left viewers completely baffled. In a TikTok that’s gone on to rack up over 600,00 views on the platform, blogger King Schratz got to try the new cookie flavor. Oreo never shies away from unusual flavor combinations, evident from the ‘Swedish Fish,’ released back in 2016. This saw Oreo replace their traditional cream filling with bright gummy candy. The Swedish Fish Oreo received a lot of attention from food bloggers at the time, with one quipping: “Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should… this cream isn’t perfectly pillowy, soft, and squishy… It’s a little more sticky, chewy, and dare I say…slimy.” Now, Oreo has teamed up with Sour Patch Kids to create a brand new cookie. In Schratz’s video titled “SOUR PATCH KIDS OREOS EXIST?!” he holds up the colorful, neon packaging, with an image of Sour Patch Kids gummies sitting on an Oreo cookie. “Supposedly, these don’t come out for another two weeks, but someone at Walgreens put them out,” he says. “I won’t say which Walgreens because I don’t want to get anyone in trouble.” He takes a big bite of the cookie, and looks utterly perplexed, taking a minute to ponder before giving his full review. “They really nailed the flavor of Sour Patch Kids… after a couple of seconds, the sourness really starts to kick in,” he reveals. He says that he would not eat the new snack on a regular basis, but did enjoy the experience of trying it. “Bonus footage for those who stayed to the end of the video,” he says, “These are available at the Walgreens in Allendale New Jersey.” After the TikTok was posted on the platform, people couldn’t wait to weigh in and share their thoughts. Many were excited about the collab, tagging their friends and writing “It’s not a want – it’s a need.” Some had tried some other Sour Patch treats in the past, and reminisced about their favorite items: “I remember the Sour Patch Kids ice cream at Dollar General. That was so fire. Bring it back!” However, some weren’t sold on the new release, saying: “This sounds so gross,” and that it looked “Lowkey nasty.” Oreo / Sour Patch Kids, both owned by parent company Mondelēz International, are yet to announce an official release date for the product. This is not the first time the company trialed snack-based crossovers. Back in 2020, they collaborated with Chips Ahoy to create CHIPS AHOY! Cookies with SOUR PATCH KIDS Candy. These were met with mixed reviews that skewed mainly toward the negative. The general consensus was that “Just because things taste good separately, does not mean they need to be mixed together.” McDonald’s also announced they were collaborating with a popular cookie brand, but this combination had fans salivating. The new Lotus Biscoff / McDonald’s McFlurry was a surefire hit.

The video racked up over 378,000 views, and showed TikToker Aalyah as she waited patiently in her car. We saw the Sonic worker in question, as she emerged through the doorway, bumping herself on the way out. “You got it,” Aalyah encouraged her. She managed to make it out while still keeping her balance, until she bumped into the standee menus at the drive-thru. Despite this, she still managed to hold on to the order. Unfortunately, as she made a turn to make it toward the car, she managed to trip up, before spilling the order’s contents all over the surface of Aalyah’s car, primarily on the windshield. The worker was super apologetic, and said “I’m so sorry about that,” to which Aalyah replied “It’s OK, I swear.” “Are you OK?” she asked, before the Sonic worker apologized again. “Don’t worry about it, sweetie,” she said, laughing. “It’s OK. Thank you, honey.” After the video was posted on the platform, people found the whole interaction super amusing, writing: “I’m crying the way she fell into the windshield.” “I had so much fun working at sonic lmao all my co workers and managers were awesome,” a former Sonic employee wrote. • Sour Patch Kids become Sour Patch Adults in apparent April Fools joke – Dexerto

Sour Patch Kids become Sour Patch Adults in apparent April Fools joke Wikimedia Commons / Mondelēz InternationalIt seems Sour Patch Kids is rebranding in what may be an early April Fools joke, as the popular candy claims it will now be called ‘Sour Patch Adults.’ It seems the Sour Patch Kids brand of candy may be trying to get ahead of the April Fools’ Day game after its official X account has undergone an apparent rebrand. After changing its profile picture to a monochrome, frowning Sour Patch Kid wearing a suit and tie, the account posted a simple tweet that said: “It’s time to grow up.” Attached to the tweet, an image reads, “Effective immediately, we are Sour Patch Adults. We deeply regret the mischief, tomfoolery, or otherwise child-like behavior in our past.” The post continued and said the candy brand’s new goal would be to “lead with maturity and tact” going forward. The post itself seems to mirror modern brand apology messages, with a brief statement followed by a much longer message included as an image on a monochrome background. Other brands on X jumped in on the fun, as the Instacart account responded, “So we’re just skipping the awkward unapologetic sour patch teen phase? Some X users were confused by the post, with many claiming Sour Patch Adults was a little too early to post their joke. “This is a couple of days early, no?” asked one user, while another said, “Lmao it’s not even April 1st yet.” However, some X users honed in on what really matters here: “I hope this just means bigger candy, because I could totally eat that.” I hope this just means bigger candy, because I could totally eat that — Bayle (@BayleGoldman) March 27, 2024 With April 1, 2024, just a few days away only time will tell what exactly Sour Patch Adults will do with this new, more mature rebrand.

  • Sonic releases new “dirty” sodas and the internet is divided – Dexerto

Sonic releases new “dirty” sodas and the internet is divided Sonic Drive-InSonic has released a new range of sodas with a twist, and the people of the internet are not sure how to feel about these new drinks that have creamer and lime added. Sonic’s new “dirty sodas” are a real departure from what you would expect of a typical soda, and with a name like that, the internet’s attention was grabbed. While these types of drinks, that have creamer added, have been a fad for a while, some people think it’s a pretty gross concept. Sonic’s dirty sodas come in two flavors to make your normal soda more exciting. Would you try these dirty sodas from Sonic? This trend of sodas with coconut creamer and lime added became popular in Utah at small, regional chains like Swig, where they add flavors and cream to any number of sodas to make them even sweeter. And now, Sonic has followed suit. A spokesperson for the chain said: “We keep a close eye on trends from coast to coast and have a strong pulse on what our customers want and love. It takes a typical soft drink flavor and turns it into a sweet dessert-like treat.” But, the internet isn’t so sure. One user on X said: “I don’t really drink soda but the girlies on TikTok say that Sonic’s new “dirty” sodas are tea so I’m finna try one and see what the hype is about.” With another noting that the Fanta Orange one, “tastes like a creamsicle.” Plenty of customers are glad of this quirky change to the menu. However, not everyone is on board with the idea, with one person posting: There’s no doubt that these types of sodas coming to big chains is a great way for them to incorporate online trends to their menus and draw in customers, but, these “dirty sodas” are definitely out there with their flavors and may not be for everyone. If they are for you though, get down to your local Sonic Drive-In and order one of these dirty sodas, if you dare.

  • Sonic launches spooky new shake just in time for Halloween – Dexerto

Sonic launches spooky new shake just in time for Halloween Sonic Drive-InSpooky season is nearly upon us, and that means pumpkin spiced everything in fast food stores across the country – except at Sonic which has created something new. If you’re not so big on PSLs, Sonic is launching a brand new Witches’ Brew Slush Float that will send shivers down your spine (in a good way). The new drink is set to launch on September 30, according to information leaked by a Sonic employee to a popular food blogger. The new drink is a Frankenstein monster mashup of slush, boba tea, and milkshake; and with its bright green color, it’ll certainly give your Instagram a Halloween aesthetic, but what’s in it? The drink features a green apple flavor slush accompanied by salted caramel popping boba, the drink is then topped off with some creamy soft-serve for good measure. With the flavor notes here, it’s likely that this drink will bring you right back to the candy apple-filled Halloweens of your childhood. Sonic has not yet announced how long the drink will be around, but with the spooky theme in mind, we can expect to see it in stores until at least October 31. This drink was leaked by food blogger Markie Devo on Instagram, and fans couldn’t wait to get their hands on the new treat. “Yay something not pumpkin spice!” One person mentioned, clearly thankful for the outside-of-the-box thinking from Sonic. Another user compared this drink to the popular slush float that was released for the solar eclipse, “Omg the solar eclipse purple one a while back was so f***ing good!” However, some people weren’t sure about one ingredient in the witches’ brew: “It was almost perfect. • Smoothie King worker says he was fired over viral rant about touching customer’s hands – Dexerto

Smoothie King worker says he was fired over viral rant about touching customer’s hands TikTok: @ashrayA worker at Smoothie King took to TikTok to complain, claiming that the chain had fired him because he was uncomfortable with customers touching his hands. The whole situation started in 2019, when the TikToker, named Ashton, posted a short clip where he ranted: “Hi, PSA: Whenever I hand you your card and receipt, you don’t have to caress my hand… You don’t have to touch me to take your card. You can just grab it.” He slams his fist down on a table expressing his frustration, saying that he hates his job. Now, he’s reposted the video, with an overlay that reads, “This video got me fired from my job,” followed by a series of crying emojis. In the caption, Ashton wrote “This haunts me… Take me back,” bidding the chain to rehire him. TikTok weigh in on viral Smoothie King rant After the video was posted on the platform, it seemed that many people were sympathetic to Ashton’s plight, writing: “For real the older men are the ones caressing my hand. Like Sir just take your receipt without touching my hand.” “They be like, ‘your hands are COLD’ Ma’am, you don’t need to hold my whole arm, just take your card from my fingertips,” another wrote. It seems as though it’s not just Smoothie King workers this has happened to, as one shared: “Working at Dunkin. This happens everywhere. I IMMEDIATELY wash my hands every time, it’s so gross.” One user, however, was clearly irked by Ashton’s behavior in the video, stating: “I can clearly see why you got fired.” It’s not just fast food workers who are slammed for inappropriate behavior, however, as a customer recently came under fire after she raged at waiting staff at the Sugar Factory.

  • Sonic finally releases $1.99 menu that’s full of value – Dexerto

Sonic finally releases $1.99 menu that’s full of value FlickrSonic is releasing a brand new menu that allows you to get some new items, as well as returning classics, for cheap. Throughout 2024, we’ve seen major fast food brands such as McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, Burger King, and Popeyes responding to the exponential rise in dining out costs by releasing value meal deals. Sonic is now joining the lineup, but instead of simply releasing a value meal, it’s releasing an entire value menu. The new menu features customer favorites, as well as a brand new one, and also involves the chain’s 12 shake flavors. The $1.99 items joining the lineup are: Chili Cheese Coney – Small Tots – Quarter Pound Doube Cheeseburger – Small Shake (any flavor 16oz) – Queso Wraps (new) – The new wraps have just made their way to menus, and come in two different flavors, including: Bacon Ranch Queso Wrap: Crispy all-white meat tender, crisp bacon, melty cheddar cheese, creamy ranch, and white queso, wrapped up in a flour tortilla. – Southwest Crunch Queso Wrap: Crispy all-white meat tender, Southwest sauce, crunchy tortilla strips, melted cheddar cheese, white queso, wrapped inside a soft flour tortilla. – What separates the Sonic release from other value offerings is that the $1.99 menu is set to become a permanent fixture at the chain, and won’t be removed after a certain timeframe. “Now more than ever, consumers are focused on affordable food options, but they shouldn’t have to settle for the same old, tired discounts or boring meals. Many restaurant brands are touting value meals and discounts, and you see a lot of recycled ideas with limited options. “At SONIC, we wanted to do something different – something fun – so we focused on variety, which is why we’re introducing the new $1.99 Menu, or what we like to call the FUN.99 Menu,” said Ryan Dickerson, Chief Marketing Officer of SONIC. The new Sonic menu is currently available for purchase nationwide across the US. Sonic has also just released its official summer menu, which features a total of six new drinks to try.

Unsurprisingly, TikTok was baffled by the entire situation. TikToker named Carlie revealed the bad news that she’d received at work that day. In the video, which only lasts a mere five seconds, she reveals the unusual circumstances surrounding her job loss. “I got fired today from a restaurant because customers I knew personally left me good reviews, it’s Christmas time,” she wrote. “I’m a single mother. The world is so cruel.” She captioned her video, “Nothing feels real.” TikTok weigh in on unusual firing before Christmas After the video was posted on TikTok, it amassed a ton of comments from users. Many were baffled by the unusual circumstances behind Carlie’s termination, considering that she’d allegedly received so many positive reviews on Yelp from customers. “They seriously fired you for THAT? Isn’t it a good thing that you got good reviews? That’s so unfair,” one wrote. “I got fired last month because I’m pregnant, I was a store manager, Not been an easy Xmas in my house either,” another sympathized. “I’ve been unfairly let go/fired too. Usually because of women that could be my mom or grandma,” one weighed in. • Simpson’s themed ‘Homers’ doughnut shop has fans completely obsessed – Dexerto

Simpson’s themed ‘Homers’ doughnut shop has fans completely obsessed Instagram: @homers_mtlFast food fans were left salivating after videos circulated of a Simpson’s themed doughnut shop, aptly named ‘Homers’ after the show’s doughnut-loving character. Homers, a doughnut shop in Montreal, Canada, quickly became a sensation, as even though it only opened this passing March, each day has a line of people queuing to get in. But why is the store so popular? They have taken care to ensure that The Simpson’s fans will have a fully immersive experience, both in the colors and the decor. It even features Simpson’s-themed arcade games that customers can have fun playing — even the packaging is in keeping with the show’s theme. Perhaps what also separates them from bigger chains such as Krispy Kreme and Dunkin’ is that they have a ‘doughnut of the day,’ where they reveal a new and exciting doughnut creation each day, to spice things up for customers. Speaking to the local Montreal Gazette, the shop’s owner, Terry Axiotis commented on their debut: “On Day 1, we sold out completely, so we doubled our production and sold out again on Day 2.” It seems that the key to the store’s success is hard work and dedication, as Axiotis said on Wednesday morning that he and his crew were baking and stacking boxes in preparation of another busy day. “So we doubled up every day after that, and we have been selling out every day. Now we’re maxed out. We go through 200 kilos of dough per day.” This means that they’re selling a whopping 5,000 doughnuts a day to eager customers. There have been a ton of videos posted by the new store, displaying some of the different flavors being sold there. The new range includes OREO, crème brûlée, and Cookie Monster to name a few. People on Instagram we’re raving over the new store after they posted, writing: “Dopest doughnuts in MTL – Legit better than Krispy Kreme hands down.” Another said: “Legit the best donuts I’ve ever tasted. My advice is to try the classics (chocolate/boston cream/maple/jelly/sugar) – they are beyond. I’ve been twice and need to actively stop myself from going in daily,” another advised doughnut fans.” “Delicious donuts & the service is amazing too. A MUST TRY! Wishing Homers continued success!” another chimed in, clearly impressed. The store itself is located at Sherbrooke St W, Montreal. According to their official Instagram page, they are open every day from 10AM – 5PM if fans would like to visit. They do both a 6 and 12 pack of doughnuts, costing $10.18 USD – $15.99 USD respectively. Krispy Kreme are also going viral this April, as they’ve announced the release of a bizarre new flavor – white chocolate and cheese. Unlike Homer’s doughnuts, people weren’t too sure how they felt about this creation.

Sharing her fury with viewers, TikToker Kat said that she literally does not have time to go to the store to pick up her own food items. As a single mom, she relies on food delivery services in order to collect her groceries. Visibly upset, she explains: “When you leave off half of my f**king order and say it’s delivered – f**k you. I’m not stupid. I understand times are tough. I literally just made a f**king video about it, times are f**king tough, but they’re not just tough for you, OK? They’re tough for everybody.” Apparently it gets worse, as she claims the Walmart driver took item’s she’d bought specifically bought for her autistic child: “And you just took my motherf**king groceries like it was nothing. And not only that, but you took the things specifically, you knew that they were specifically for f**king children. If you’re gonna take the milk, take the f**king cereal. OK? But pull-ups? The melatonin? Lunchables?” This was clearly a major problem for Kat, as she says that her son “freaks the f**k out about Lunchables on a daily basis.” She says that Walmart were active in their desire to help Kat rectify the situation, however, she’d have to wait ten business days for a refund. “To the piece of sh*t who stole my f**king kid’s food, I hope you choke on it,” she finishes. TikTok weigh in on women’s Walmart delivery rant After the video was posted on the platform, people were torn over the situation, with many quick to disagree with Kat. “No time (for her)… when she clearly sends back a video response each time. lol. Go get your own f**kin food. Pff no time my ass,” one disgruntled viewer wrote. “No offence because I’m sure you work hard but why have three kids? It’s obviously too much for you to handle,” another stated bluntly. “Girl….buck the f**k up! Go to the fucking store and take your hellians! You had them, take them. Ya’ll are lazy as f**k! Go to the f**king store!” A few, however, sympathized with Kat, writing: “For all those saying horrible comments to someone who is going through a hard time… What is wrong with you? I’m so sorry this happened, you have every right to be furious!” “Girl, send me your address and what you need… Single mom too… Not struggling now paying it forward,” another offered kindly. This isn’t the first time delivery drivers have been in the spotlight, as a DoorDasher ate a customer’s food after they allegedly failed to tip him.

Her partner can be seen sitting across from her, sipping from a white mug. After he puts the mug down in the center of the table, she then picks up the same mug and drinks from it too. The text overlay reads, “Our money saving tactic is sharing one refillable drink when we go out to eat.” “Gotta save money somehow,” she writes in the video’s caption. Servers call woman’s money-saving hack “cheap” After the video was posted on social media, it caused quite a stir, with many servers unhappy with Hadassah. “If you can’t afford another $2-$3 drink then I’m worried if you even tip good,” one wrote. “Worst tables to get ever,” another commenter agreed. “Had someone ask me for a soda (with) no ice and an extra glass on the side once.” They claimed that they knew Hadassah wasn’t a good tipper, because they were already being “cheap” by sharing the same drink. Some, however, commended her for her money-saving tip, and said that they also did the same. “With the prices for soda these days we do the same. $4 for a drink is insane.” “Did this as a teenager and got yelled at by a server. Maybe I’ll try it now, lol,” another wrote. Another customer went viral, when they raged at wait staff at the Sugar Factory, when an automatic tip was added to their bill.

  • Server tells customers to ‘serve yourselves’ after they say they wouldn’t be tipping – Dexerto

Server tells customers to ‘serve yourselves’ after they say they wouldn’t be tipping TikTok: @poorandhungryIn a video that’s gone viral on TikTok, a waitress recounted a bizarre tipping experience she’d had with customers, and how she handled it – and viewers are a bit split. Gaining well over half a million views on the platform, waitress Syd shared an interaction she’d had with customers looking to be waited upon. In the video, she plays out the scenario, playing the part of the customer in question, who told her: “We wanna let you know up front we don’t tip. We’re not tipping. So you can just give us whatever service you need.” Her reaction was surprising. Instead of accommodating them, she tells them to return to the host stand, where they can place a to-go order instead. She explains that there is a service charge for sitting in the restaurant. “So because I don’t believe that I should have to pay your salary I can’t even eat here?” the customer responds. “If you don’t want the great service, if you don’t want to pay the service charge for it, that’s totally fine. We can still feed you. We can’t deliver free services,” she claps back. TikTok weighs in on tipping situation After the video was posted on the platform, people couldn’t wait to weigh in and share their opinions on the matter. Many sided with Syd, commending her for her response: “This is a brilliant response – tip is the service charge!” “Especially when the server has to tip out, I have paid $7-$10 to serve a table that didn’t tip,” another shared. However, many were confused by her response in the video, not understanding the rules of tipping: “I am confused… What is the job of the waiter/waitress? What do they get paid for then?” “Interesting, I always thought you tip someone when they do a good job. I was unaware it’s mandatory,” another wrote. Some were flat-out enraged by Syd’s behavior, writing: “As a server for over a decade, this is ridiculous. I would never kick out someone that doesn’t tip. I’ll give them my most basic service maybe.” “I hope the customers in this setting stayed there, took their time, and didn’t tip. The audacity of wait staff,” another chided. Another tipping situation went viral, when a customer demanded that an automatic tip be taken off their bill when a waiter refused to serve them water.

Server gets revenge on “Karen” for not tipping on $650 order TIKTOK: deanredmonds / UNSPLASHA server has gone viral on TikTok after sharing how he got revenge on a rude customer for not tipping on a $650 order. Content creator and server Dean Redmond (deanredmonds) took to TikTok to reveal what he did in response to one entitled “Karen” who did not tip on a $650 take-out order. Dean explained that the customer placed a 50-item order at 9am. He called her back to ask if she could give them just 30 minutes more to finish preparing her order. “She’s like, ‘Uh if you are asking… no,’” Dean recounted, saying she hung up the phone before he could ask her a follow-up question. At 9:30am, the woman came through the door confronting one of his co-workers. Dean then approached her and politely reminded her that he’d told her over the phone that they needed 30 more minutes. “‘No, you asked me if we could give you 30 more minutes to which I said no,’” the customer responded. “‘Everytime we do this order from Panera or Chipotle they have no issues.’” The TikToker said he clarified the restaurant was neither Panera or Chipotle and offered her a seat while she waited for her order. He then shared his disbelief when he found out she didn’t leave a tip. “She doesn’t tip on a $650 order!! Not $5 not $2… nothing! No thank yous… leaves!” he said. But it didn’t end there, as the woman came back 40 minutes later to complain that her sandwiches were “dry” and lacking condiments. Dean then escorted her to the self-serve station to pack her own sauces. However, his restaurant would later receive a negative review alleging that the staff deliberately served the woman dry sandwiches because she came in early. Dean and his co-workers were livid at this point, and decided they had to take action. They found out the customer’s name from the Yelp review and decided to give this “Karen” a taste of her own medicine. After Googling her name, they discovered that she worked as a financial sales nearby. The server and his co-workers went on to write bad reviews from their parents’ accounts, naming the customer in each one. “Hope you like those Meredith,” Dean added, smirking at the camera.

  • School worker jailed after $1.5m chicken wing heist that lasted a year – Dexerto

School worker jailed after $1.5m chicken wing heist that lasted a year Fox News / CanvaA school worker has been jailed for 9 years after stealing van-loads of chicken wings in a heist operation that started in July 2020. Vera Liddell of Illinois was charged with theft and operating a criminal enterprise after stealing over $1.5 million worth of chicken wings from the school she worked at. On Friday August 9 2024, the former Harvey School District director pleaded guilty to the crime and was sentenced to nine years in prison. Liddell, 68, was the food service director for the Chicago school district, and according to CBS, she had multiple bankruptcies in her past. Prosecutors said that Vera placed orders for chicken wings with the district’s main food suppliers, and then took cratefuls of wings home, without anyone noticing. Surveillance video obtained by the Attorney’s Office allegedly showed that Liddell arrived at Gordon Food Service to pick up the orders and would leave with them in a district cargo van. The food, however, was never brought to the school or the students, prosecutors said. She carried out this criminal enterprise over two years starting in July 2020, and was only caught when her superiors carried out an audit of food ordered because they had gone $3000,000 over budget by mid-year. Court records obtained by CBS state that the former worker was accused of stealing more than 11,000 cases of chicken wings during the time period. The food was meant to be for students who were studying from home during the pandemic, WGN reported. “The massive fraud began at the height of COVID during a time when students were not allowed to be physically present in school,” said a prosecutor during a bond hearing, per WGN-TV. “Even though the children were learning remotely, the school district continued to provide meals for the students that their families could pick up.” Liddell had worked at the school district for more than a decade, WGN also reported. The scheme was discovered in February 2022 and Lidell was charged in January 2023. The chicken thief pleaded guilty and was sentenced to serve 9 years in prison on Friday August 9, 2024. That isn’t the only crazy food story, in fact, taking this Trader Joe’s item through the airport could get you arrested.

Selena Gomez’s boyfriend’s harsh review of Jollibee gets fierce backlash Phillipines StarBenny Blanco, Selena Gomez’s controversial boyfriend, has received a lot of angry comments under a TikTok reviewing the much-loved Filipino fast food chain, Jollibee. Since Selena Gomez went Instagram official with producer Benny Blanco back in December 2023, he has received a lot of backlash for his outspoken personality. Blanco reviews a lot of food on TikTok, and in a recent video, he tried out food from the popular Filipino chicken restaurant, Jollibee. Although the chain restaurant has a lot of die-hard fans, Blanco seemed to think that the food was gross and received a lot of backlash in the comments for his harsh review. Benny Blanco bashes popular Filipino chicken chain In a recent TikTok, the music producer ordered a whole lot of food from Jollibee and taste-tested it. He didn’t seem pleased with a lot of what he had ordered, and had no problems letting the internet know how he felt: Among some other comments, Blanco said that their rice, “tasted like butt” and that their spaghetti, “smelt like vomit”. On top of this, he literally spat the spaghetti back into its container. He also tried a weird combination of fried chicken dipped in their pineapple iced drink and then warned people: “Don’t order from Jollibee.” Filipino people and fans of Jollibee in the comments were not happy with Blanco’s review, with some people commenting things like: “You just made some enemies with that Jollibee disrespect.” People felt that Blanco was not just reviewing a meal, but disrespecting Filipino culture and insulting their food. Another commented, “It’s okay if Jollibee isn’t your thing, but there’s no need for disrespectful comments. Everyone has different tastes and preferences.” One TikToker even left a scathing comment, saying that Benny Blanco’s review of Jollibee’s was the same way they felt about him: Jollibee’s menu does have some items that typical US-based fried chicken chains wouldn’t serve, including a spaghetti dish with chopped-up hotdogs. The chain generally gets positive reviews for its interesting food choices, but it doesn’t seem like Selena Gomez’s boyfriend agrees, and the internet was not happy about it.

  • San Francisco restaurant owner sparks outrage after charging $22 for burrito – Dexerto

San Francisco restaurant owner sparks outrage after charging $22 for burrito Unsplash: frankcreative360San Francisco-based Mexican restaurant La Vaca Birria has received criticism after doubling their prices for burritos from $11 to $22. The San Francisco-based restaurant La Vaca Birria caused uproar after they doubled the price of their burritos from $11 to $22. The reason, owner Ricardo Lopez argued, is not in an attempt to make more money, but an attempt to continue to break even as prices for everything rise. Their signature burrito is the most popular and nearly every ingredient that goes into it has doubled in cost. That’s the reason the owner said its price has, too. “Before COVID, [onions] were like $9 a sack at Restaurant Depot, I used to pick them up. During COVID, and after, it was $40 dollars. Right now, it’s $80,” Lopez told NBC News. The reason for the high costs is because of Lopez’s decision to buy premium beef to make his birria, as well as making all of the ingredients from scratch – except for the tortillas which he gets from a local shop. “The food that you make in your pueblo back in Mexico, it’s very labor intensive,” said Lopez. “And the only way you get that here is at those fine dining restaurants, doing everything from scratch.” People spark outrage after restaurant double prices People have taken to social media to express their feelings about the big price increase, and they were not impressed. One person wrote: “$22 for beans rice and cheese with some meat? LMAOOOOOO Bro, naw… Support your local Taco Truck making these all day same size for 8-9$..” A second person wrote: “If that’s what he has to do break even then I predict he is well on his way to being out of business sooner rather than later. Pack it in, Senor Lopez.” “God damn inflation. No burritos should cost that much. Hell, even $11 is a stretch. It’s supposed to be a poor man’s food, a working man’s food,” another user wrote. However, several people stood up for Lopez and his price increases. One person argued: “My view – if he sells the right mix of $22 burritos to customers willing and buying, then that is great for his business and his customers.” “A doubling in price all at once means he’s been absorbing the costs on behalf of his customers, hoping that costs would come down. I hope he didn’t wait too long,” a second person wrote.

  • ‘Rock, paper, scissors food challenge’: TikTok food trend explained – Dexerto

‘Rock, paper, scissors food challenge’: TikTok food trend explained TikTokThe ‘Rock, paper, scissors food challenge’ is a viral trend on TikTok, which sees creators compete with their friends and family for a delicious meal. The challenge involves playing rock, paper, scissors to determine who can take a bite of food whilst the other runs laps. It’s likely to have originated from the popular TikTok food trend, ‘dinner date challenge’ that was going viral in 2023. While the dinner date challenge involved couples playing rock, paper, scissors to decide who picked the entrée, main, and dessert; this trend adds an element of competition to the original food challenge. To try out this challenge, all you need to do is order a meal from your favorite fast food place with a friend and set it up in front of the camera outside or somewhere with enough room to run a short distance. The aim of the game is to play rock, paper, scissors, and the person who wins gets to start eating the food. The loser though, has to go for a short run. When they get back from their jog, you’ll have to play again. This process repeats until the meal is finished, and you could end up not even getting to enjoy a single bite. This is the perfect TikTok trend for people who hate sharing food because you have to eat as much as possible while the other person does some exercise. Or if you’re a fitness fanatic, you might enjoy running with a mouth full of fries. One person on TikTok commented: “This is the first food challenge I actually stayed and didn’t get bored. Credit.” These videos just get funnier as they go on and the rock, paper, scissors food challenge is a great trend to try out if you have any pent-up beef with a friend who never shares their food. If you still have room for dessert after trying out this TikTok food trend, why not try making a candy salad?

Rollie Eggmaster disgusts internet with bizarre “egg turd” cooking method Reddit: @Steve__21A video of a cooking device called the Rollie Eggmaster has gone viral on the internet for the appearance of the egg it produced. Food technology devices have made cooking advanced meals and recipes easier than ever before, allowing people to imitate Michelin Star level cuisine right from their home kitchen. One company set out to be a big name in the Food Tech market with their product “Rollie Eggmaster,” which put forth the USP (Unique Selling Point) of allowing people to cook delicious eggs quickly. However, after a video surfaced showing the results of the Rollie Eggmaster, people could not believe the kitchen device intentionally made the egg look the way it did. Internet brands Rollie device as “egg turd” maker The Rollie Eggmaster had made one customer so happy that they decided to share the results of using it on social media: “Rollie Eggmaster will be the name of my firstborn son,” they joked, sharing a video of the machine churning out a cooked egg in an interesting shape. Viewers did not find the appearance of the egg as appetizing as the original user, and one person described it as something you most definitely not want to eat: “Egg turd,” they said. Others wondered if the egg was even supposed to look like that. “Is the device shitting the cooked egg back out intentional?” said another viewer. However, while most people couldn’t look past the aesthetics of the food produced by the machine, others thought that with the right complimenting food it might actually taste quite nice: “NGL tho. Throw one of those breakfast sausage links in there and add the egg behind it. Put that on like a toasted hotdog bun. Top that with a little syrup. You’d be in business”. Still, despite some finding it appetizing, I’m sure that an egg log won’t be on the menu for many people any time soon.

  • RIP bacon egg burritos: Why some Taco Bells are no longer serving breakfast – Dexerto

RIP bacon egg burritos: Why some Taco Bells are no longer serving breakfast Taco BellIf you’re someone who is a big fan of a breakfast burrito, we have some sad news for you; some Taco Bell restaurants are going to stop serving breakfast. Whether you’re going for a Breakfast Crunchwrap, or simply just a hash brown on the go, Taco Bell’s breakfast is the perfect way to add a Tex-Mex kick to your mornings; so why is Taco Bell removing their breakfast menu at some locations? Taco Bell promised that only a “small minority” of restaurants will be affected, and that this decision was not one that was taken lightly. According to the fast food giant, some of their franchise-owned restaurants have decided to cut their breakfast menus in an effort to “streamline” the business. The number and location of stores impacted are unknown, but the changes are expected to have been fully rolled out by October and will only affect franchised stores. 500 out of the 8,500 Taco Bell restaurants in the country are company owned, and the good news is that these restaurants will continue to serve all your breakfast faves. Taco Bell gave its franchises the option to choose to stop serving breakfast so that both parties “have the flexibility to focus on key drivers of growth.” Taco Bell noted in a statement provided to USA Today. “Our Breakfast Crunchwraps and Breakfast Burritos are simple yet craveable,” Taco Bell said in a statement. “That’s why we are continuing to serve breakfast in the majority of our restaurants, including all company-owned restaurants.” So, although your local Bell may stop serving your eggs in the morning, it isn’t all bad news. This ceasing of breakfast menus is in anticipation of new menu releases, including expanding their coffee range. Brands like Krispy Kreme and Dunkin’ have been releasing coffee menus to rival the likes of Starbucks, and now, Taco Bell has promised to amp up their caffeine options. Rewards “glitch” lets you get unlimited free food at McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A, more TikTok: @mrcultdaddyA new hack has been discovered that allows you to get unlimited food from some of the biggest fast food chains – so here’s how it works. TikTok user @mrcultdaddy explained the trick, telling viewers that he’d come across it while he was in college and that it involved a glitch that supplied him with endless free food. “Nowadays, every restaurant, every food place, they all have an app, and most of them will give you something free if you sign up for their rewards system. You just have to give them your email,” he said. Traditionally, this reward will be limited to one free item per person, but according to the TikToker, there’s a “glitch” in the system that tricks it into thinking that you have a different email every time. “Let’s say your email is cultdaddyspam@gmail.com. Well, if you do a ‘plus’ after your email— cultdaddyspam+hello@gmail.com—it will still go to your inbox, but most of these restaurants think of it as a different email,” the content creator shared. “You can do can do ‘plus hello,’ ‘plus grandma,’ ‘plus TikTok.’” “Because these apps think of it as a brand new email, you can continually sign up and get free food or whatever the incentive is without having to make other email addresses,” he explained. He used the Chick-fil-A app as an example, saying: “If you signed up on the app, you got a free sandwich… I easily got over 50 to 60 free sandwiches.” The video went on to gain over 100,000 views, with many impressed by the hack. “I’ve made so many emails for free trials but this sounds like a better alternative if it works,” one said. “Doing the lord’s work sir,” another wrote. “Great for the homeless! Could also use different birthdates for places, known to give you something free for your birthday. Could be lots of different restaurants so that you always get something warm,” one suggested. Some, however, pointed out that the glitch could potentially prove to be unethical, warning commenters “Do it at chains only, not small spots.” It’s also possible that if this trick really catches on, chains will start to crackdown on “plus” email addresses. And if you’re looking for other free food tricks, a different TikToker also went viral after they revealed another hack to get free Popeyes every day.

  • Retiring Costco exec shares update on $1.50 hotdog combo amid inflation concerns – Dexerto

Retiring Costco exec shares update on $1.50 hotdog combo amid inflation concerns CostcoRetiring Costco CFO, Richard Galanti has offered concerned shoppers an update on the retail company’s $1.50 hotdog combo amid inflation concerns. American multinational corporation Costco has long been popular with shoppers, offering its members products at a low price that are hard to beat. A favorite amongst buyers has long been the Costco hotdog and drink combo. Found in the food court for only $1.50, the price has not been upped since its introduction in 1984. However, inflation concerns have left many worried about the combo’s future and whether or not its price tag will remain the same. Now, retiring Costco CFO Richard Galanti has offered an update on what’s to come. The 67-year-old has been an executive at Costco for nearly 40 years, becoming the chief financial officer in 1985 — just one year after the public was introduced to Costco’s hot dog combo. Stepping down on March 15, Galanti’s successor will be Gary Millerchip, the former CFO of Kroger. Despite this major change, Galanti revealed buyers’ concerns surrounding their favorite meal are unlikely to come to fruition anytime soon. Speaking to Bloomberg, Galanti said that the beloved hot dog combo “is probably safe for a while” — news that will likely be music to many shopper’s ears. “The underlying culture of the company hasn’t changed,” Galanti said, speaking on how the company has changed since its inception. “It is what the founders wrote, the five things that you’re going to do, in this order: Obey the law, take care of your customers, take care of your employees, respect your suppliers — be tough, but fair. Then, reward your shareholders.” It looks like Costco’s customers will be able to rest easy knowing they’re wallets wont be left emptied when ordering a hot dog and soda combo in the near future.

  • Retirees have eaten at 500 Texas Roadhouse’ and they want to hit them all – Dexerto

Retirees have eaten at 500 Texas Roadhouse’ and they want to hit them all Wikimedia CommonsA couple from West Virginia have gone viral after setting themselves a very unique mission, which involves visiting every single Texas Roadhouse location. Mike and Judy McNamara say they first fell in love with Texas Roadhouse way back in 2003, and after they both retired, Mike decided to go through all of their credit card statements to figure out every location they’ve ever visited. At the time, they’d only managed 37 locations, but they enjoyed dining out so much at the chain that they decided to tackle the rest. This means that for every two months in the year, the Roadhouse patrons take a road trip in their camper, and make sure to check off more on their list. So far, they’ve travelled to a whopping 437 out of the 600 + locations. Mike claimed that they drive approximately 25,000 miles per year to visit new Roadhouses, and they plan to make it past the 500 bracket in 2025. “It’ll probably get harder after that because they’re farther away from home every time now,” he commented on their adventures. The reason why the couple are so addicted to Texas Roadhouse isn’t because of the food, but because of the staff. “It’s more like home cooking to us. And as time has gone by, it’s not just the food. It’s also the people who work at the restaurants. They are a very big family of employees.” This couple aren’t the only ones who are proud to show their love for fast food chains. Back in March, a McDonald’s Big Mac record holder broke another milestone at age 70.

  • Restaurant responds to $22 fee to prep margarita after review goes viral – Dexerto

Restaurant responds to $22 fee to prep margarita after review goes viral TikTok: blondeswhoeat, Instagram: marysolcocinalatinaA restaurant responded to a TikToker’s claims that they had charged her and her friends hundreds of dollars in “prep fees” for their margaritas. TikTok influencer ‘Blondes Who Eat’ often shares content of herself trying popular food and eateries in the Dallas, TX area. Most recently, she went viral for sharing the alleged “prep fee” that she claims the restaurant Mar Y Sol Cocina Latina charged her table after they ate an “exceptional” dinner there. During her TikTok video, she noted that she knew their food and drinks should have totaled around $150. However, after looking at the bill, she was shocked to find it was $530. That’s when she broke down how much the prep fees were for each margarita their table ordered. The fee was added due to the bartender having to shake the drink. The fee differed depending on the quality of the tequila used. For the $14 margaritas, the restaurant supposedly charged them an extra $3 per drink. The $32 margaritas had a $13 prep fee and the $28 drink had a fee of $15 per order. As for the double margarita, that one had a $22 additional charge. After the TikToker’s video went viral, Mar Y Sol Cocina Latina cheekily responded to her claims in an Instagram post. “No extra fees were charged in the shaking of this cocktail,” they wrote with a wink-face emoji. Fellow customers and followers of Blondes Who Eat were quick to comment on the restaurant’s response, with many backing the TikToker. “Not according to your reviews,” wrote one. “Tacky,” added another. A viewer of the TikToker’s post even suggested she dispute the charge, saying that it seemed “illegal” if the restaurant didn’t advertise the extra prep fee on their menu. However, some felt that the restaurant’s post was “brilliant marketing,” as they felt they capitalized on a moment they couldn’t run from. Earlier this year, another restaurant also cheekily responded to the reviews it was given. The owner was then heavily praised for defending her eatery with comical online posts.

In a video that’s since gone viral, a server named Tyler gained notoriety on the platform after she ranted about some of the worst customers she served at the end of 2023. In one of her most recent experiences, a family of four who sat in a booth caused chaos after disrupting fellow customers and creating a huge mess. “This table with the kids, the kids running around, throwing sh*t, the adults are acting weird, the adults guzzled down 6 sweet teas each, it was insane… then the guy is waving the checkbook in my face,” she reveals. She says that to top everything off, they only left her a $1 tip from an $86 order. “A dollar? I would rather you stiff me because that’s mad disrespectful. You think all that was worth a f*cking dollar?” TikTok debate “insane” restaurant tipping situation Captioning her video, “Adding this table to the list of customers I refuse to serve,” people were quick to comment on the somewhat viral TikTok. “People don’t understand when you don’t tip, that server is paying you to wait on you! we have to tip out on our sales. Been bad lately,” a fellow server shared. “Biggest red flag is anyone who disrespects servers and doesn’t tip, probably because I used to be one, raised my kids on counting my tips for their math,” another concurred. Some, however, weren’t convinced by Tyler’s bold statement, instead sympathizing with the customers, writing: “I understand that it’s frustrating to you as a server, but as a parent, it’s a lot.” In other food news, a customer became enraged after the barista expected a tip for serving them a cup of water.

  • Restaurant accused of “scamming” for higher tips by adding more food to order – Dexerto

Restaurant accused of “scamming” for higher tips by adding more food to order TikTok: @smoneyz / FlickrA woman has accused a restaurant of attempting to scam her by adding ‘complimentary’ dishes to their order, just so the tip would be bigger. The video, uploaded by TikToker @smoneyyz, has sparked a wider conversation on the platform. She recalls a story where she and a group of friends went out for some drinks at a “fine dining” establishment. “We all got one drink each… We were all in agreement that we didn’t want a huge, sit-down, entree-style dinner. We’re like, ‘Let’s pick a couple plates and share them, it’s kind of late.’” Things got strange however, when several random plates were being laid at the table that the party hadn’t requested. “We’re trying to find our waiter. He’s nowhere to be found. It’s getting to the point where they’re bringing out platters of wagyu steak, scallops, things with truffles on them that we literally did not order.” When they finally got the waiter’s attention, he said that the extra plates were part of “an experience” that he wanted to give the group. He said that he’d need to seek out his manager if the diners didn’t want the untouched plates of food added to their bill. It turned out that what should have been a $300 meal, was $887. People infuriated over restaurant tipping ‘scam’ The TikToker told viewers that she suspected the waiter was adding additional plates to their table in order to increase the tipping rate at the end of the meal. It turned out that other diners had experienced similar situations too. “The same thing has happened to me twice at Mila. They sent ‘complementary dishes’ because of the table delay and tried to sneak it on our bill at the end.” “As soon as I saw the hashtag I KNEW EXACTLY which restaurant in Miami! I never step foot in there and you gave me more of a reason!” another wrote. “This happens pretty often! Especially in Miami when they have no incentive to work for the tip,” the creator wrote back, suggesting that it wasn’t just this particular restaurant running the scam. Another customer went viral, when they claimed a pizza restaurant burnt their order after they didn’t leave a tip.

TikToker Takeaway Trauma often goes viral for his reposts of negative customer experiences. In one of his recent posts, a woman was praised for “defending” her restaurant after customers left horrible reviews online. The now-viral video has amassed 6.3m views and counting. In one bad review for her restaurant, Oriental Express, a customer wrote, “The food was terrible. I ordered a chicken dish and got small pieces of battered dry chicken mixed in with battered prawns totally ruined the dish.” They also mentioned they wouldn’t be ordering from the restaurant again. The owner then promptly responded to the customer, “Hi Laura, will you please open your eyes and read the descriptions… you got what you ordered so how is this our fault. The food was fresh and perfectly cooked.” She continued, “We are good but mind reading the stupid is not one of our skills.” In another review left by a customer, they complained about their order being “45 mins late.” The owner then responded, “Hi Nathan, for the one millionth time stop exaggerating.” She also went on to say that she “doubted” their order was late. Though she fired back with rather surprising remarks, especially as a business owner, viewers of the story thought she handled herself well and gave the customers what they deserved. “Now that’s a woman standing on business,” one user wrote. “NGL – makes me want to eat at her restaurant she knows her food is great and not afraid to stand on business,” another user agreed with a laughing face emoji. One viewer even said they’d order from her restaurant solely based on the feedback she gave.

Red Lobster server literally ‘throws’ plate on table after customer orders endless shrimp TikTok: @lieceliece35A customer who ordered the endless shrimp at Red Lobster had a downright uncomfortable experience with wait staff, to say the least. In a video that’s gone viral on TikTok, a customer recorded themselves ordering the endless shrimp deal at Red Lobster. We see them being handed the plate, with the text overlay reading “Endless shrimp at red lobster (I had 10 plates).” “Another one, thank you,” the customer requests, after finishing each plate. There’s also something to suggest that the waiter might not be used to delivering so many plates to customers, with one user telling the video’s poster: “Girl, me and my sister barely managed two (plates). • Raising Cane’s customers convinced major change has been made to their chicken – Dexerto

Raising Cane’s customers convinced major change has been made to their chicken TikTok / RedditRaising Cane’s has been going viral in 2024 for their mega portions, namely, the full soda fountain cup of their iconic Cane’s sauce; but the sauce is for nothing if the chicken tenders aren’t up to scratch, and people feel that they’re getting smaller. Conversations about this apparent change were sparked after a TikTok went viral comparing the chicken tenders to chicken nuggets, and since, others have agreed that Raising Cane’s is being affected by shrinkflation. The original TikTok, posted back in June, has amassed over one million views and sparked a thread of videos under the “Raising Canes Getting Smaller” label. The video posted by Roz had users in the comments comparing Raising Cane’s sizes since they first opened, with some customers claiming that their chicken tenders used to be double the size. “The other day I got some that were barely larger than the ketchup packet they give you.” One person commented, with Roz agreeing that she used to “barely be able to finish a combo box meal” and now it’s “nothing”. “Used to be over 2 oz each now they are between 1.6 and 1.8 oz” another mentioned, clearly having done the math and weighed out the tenders after some suspicions. It wasn’t just the chicken people were concerned about, either. The video above states that they feel that the classic Texas Toast has gotten smaller too, and one commenter noted, “They used to throw in like 3 fist fulls of fries now I can actually finish the fries.” followed by a crying emoji. Although the sizing of the portions is alleged to have gone down, the prices have certainly gone up. According to a food reviewer and avid Caniac on Instagram, a Raising Cane’s box combo costed $8.35 in 2019, but in 2024, it has gone up by 55% to $12.99. When compared to other popular chicken chains, a combo of the same size is coming out at $11 at Popeye’s, and $10.44 at KFC, making Cane’s the most expensive. A Raising Cane’s worker on TikTok was able to shed some light on why these changes might be: “Cane’s worker— depends on the shipment we get. some weeks we get good size tenders other times they’re small.” Another, who claims to be in charge of weighing tender shipments before the marinating stage noted that anything between 1.6oz and 2.3oz is perfectly normal. This isn’t the only fast food chain that customers are disappointed with, McDonald’s fans aren’t pleased with this year’s Boo Bucket design.

When it comes to ordering sauce for your meal, some would argue that it is impossible to have too much. However, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is certainly not one of those, with the restaurant chain offering a 32-ounce soda cup of sauce for anywhere between five and nine dollars depending on the branch. Now, one unsuspecting customer has been left crying from laughter after being handed a full cup of sauce for her small order, her reaction quickly going viral on TikTok. So I came to Raising Cane’s ’cause we don’t have one in my city,” KC explained, bursting into laughter before she could continue. “So I asked for some extra sauce and she was like ‘You want a large one?’” KC then showed the cup full of sauce, her friend’s laughter ringing out. KC claimed that the mix-up was her “fault” as the server had asked multiple times whether she was sure she wanted a “large sauce.” “I didn’t know that’s what I was asking for!” KC exclaimed. Her friend chimed in, revealing the pair had only ordered two chicken fingers with KC adding, “I’m too embarrassed to even open it!” In a follow-up video, the pair returned to Raising Cane’s, this time ensuring they ordered more food to go alongside their massive cup of sauce. Viewers loved KC and her friend’s reaction, taking to the comments to share their enjoyment of her video. One person wrote, “This made my night. She had just finished showering at around 2:30 a.m. when she headed to the door to pick up her late-night snack, only to be shocked by the sight of a group of raccoons devouring her Talkin’ Tacos order. “I opened the door to a raccoon with a taco in its mouth,” Caterina told Newsweek. “I closed the door and went back to grab my phone cause there was no way I wasn’t filming this.” Raccoon thieves go viral on TikTok The taco enthusiast then filmed the bizarre moment and shared it on TikTok, where it has since gone viral with over 5 million views. “Bro raccoons run my apartment complex I can’t even” she captioned the clip. The video shows the hungry customer opening her apartment door to find a torn paper bag on the doormat with tortilla wraps beside it while a raccoon stares her down from the hallway. Meanwhile, two of his furry accomplices could be seen lingering near the stairs. Caterina was taken aback by the incident, having never encountered such a bold food thief in the five years she’d lived in the apartment building. “I live on the second floor, so they had to have stalked the DoorDasher,” she told the outlet. However, the TikToker found humor in the situation. “After I took the video, I closed the door and just let them have the rest,” she recounted. “They never ate the tortillas. Everyone in the comments says how skinny they are, but clearly they aren’t that starving if they didn’t eat the carbs.” After the local restaurant she ordered from learned of the viral video, they reached out to offer Caterina a gift card to compensate for the trouble. DoorDash also credited her for the uneaten order.

Raccoons can be a major menace when it comes to fast food, going as far as even ruining Taco Tuesdays by stealing orders, but they have a nice side, too. On Monday, footage was posted to TikTok showing a Toronto raccoon walk into a Scarborough location and start making friends with the patrons – so much so that they wanted to give him food! Raccoon takes over McDonald’s and customers are lovin’ it In the video shared by user ‘krinousec,’ the raccoon casually walked into the restaurant and scurried under tables, much to the amazement of customers who couldn’t help but ‘aww’ at the critter. “Get him a burger!” someone in the McDonald’s yelled a few times. “This raccoon wants a burger!” Eventually, the furry friend went to hang out with other clientele, but this didn’t sit right with the staff who wanted to escort the non-paying customer out of the restaurant. A few moments later, a broom-wielding employee tried to get the raccoon away by brushing him out the door, much to the disappointment of customers who were just getting to know their new friend. The footage instantly went viral on TikTok, amassing over 1M views in one day. As impressive as the raccoon was, viewers were also stunned by how calmly everyone behaved. “People just sit there? That could have rabies,” one surprised commenter wrote. “Leave him alone guys, he came to pick up his mobile order,” someone else joked. Others referenced an iconic incident a few hours away in Ottawa at the now-closed “world’s worst McDonald’s” where a huge brawl broke out and a man pulled a raccoon out of his jacket. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like the raccoon ended up getting a burger after all, which is too bad, because McD’s announced they will be making their beef burgers even tastier to celebrate their 50 year anniversary this March.

  • Prime Hydration sued by NASCAR driver for trademark infringement – Dexerto

Prime Hydration sued by NASCAR driver for trademark infringement Twitter: PrimeHydrateLogan Paul & KSI’s Prime Hydration has been sued by NASCAR driver Caesar Bacarella for infringing on the trademarks of his supplement company, Alpha Prime. Since its launch back in 2022, Logan Paul and KSI’s Prime Hydration has skyrocketed in popularity to become one of the most popular drink companies in the world. On July 30, 2024, NASCAR Xfinity driver Caesar Bacarella filed a lawsuit against the brand for trademark infringement – but it isn’t because of his racing endeavors. Instead, Bacarella claims that Prime Hydration infringes on the trademarks for his Alpha Prime supplement company. “This is a civil action for federal trademark infringement (forward and reverse confusion) and unfair competition under the Lanham Act and for Florida law trademark infringement of Bacarella’s ALPHA PRIME trademarks,” the lawsuit reads. “As described in greater detail below, Defendant’s use of PRIME and its derivatives, falsely suggest affiliation with Bacarella, are confusingly similar to Bacarella’s ALPHA PRIME and PRIME BITES marks, and despite ‘PRIME’ only being on the market for a short time, multiple instances of actual confusion have been discovered. “The result of these confusingly similar products is actual and a likelihood of confusion as to the origin of the products, harming the reputation and goodwill of Bacarella’s brand.” Bacarella says that as a result of the trademark infringement, he wants the judge to make Prime Hydration stop distributing the “confusingly similar” products, which would likely include both Hydration and Energy drinks. This isn’t the first trademark infrigement lawsuit that Prime Hydration has faced in 2024. Back in July, they were sued by the US Olympic & Paralympic committee for the collab they did with Kevin Durant. On the bottle, Prime added references to Durant’s past involvement with the Olympics and his previous gold medal achievements. On August 2, 2024, they were hit with a $68M lawsuit for breach of contract after allegedly skipping out on an agreement with their bottler, Refresco.

  • Pringles x Crocs collab: How to get your hands on a pair – Dexerto

Pringles x Crocs collab: How to get your hands on a pair Crocs / PringlesCrocs have teamed up with Pringles in an unexpected footwear collab, and here’s how you can grab yourself a pair. Pringles have taken a step into the fashion world by teaming up with Crocs to invent three pairs of their classic clogs and a pair of sliders printed with Pringles designs. The sliders come in white, and the clogs come in red and orange, or blue and green, and are decorated with Pringles custom Jibbitz charms. To make these shoes even more unique, the ankle strap used for putting your Crocs in ‘sports mode’ is designed to look like Mr. P’s iconic mustache. That’s not even the most crazy product in this collab though. Crocs have brought out boots that have a sole designed to look like a stack of Pringles, and, wait for it – they even have Pringles holders on the sides so you can carry your chips with you anywhere you go. This drop was first teased by Chris Olsen, a social media fashionista, who uploaded a video of him jumping in the boots, showing that your Pringles in their holsters aren’t going anywhere, no matter how fast you move. The boots look pretty crazy but are definitely a great collector’s item for any snack enthusiast. How to get the Pringles and Crocs collab All of these shoes, as well as packs of the custom Jibbitz, will be available on Crocs website from April 16. On top of this, those who buy a pair of the boots will get to try a limited edition Pringles flavor named, “Croc-tail Party.” This unusual chip flavor is said to compliment the weird fun of the entire collection, and features the “tanginess of lime, the sweetness of watermelon and a hint of chili spice, all the spirit of this partnership.”

  • Popeyes uses Taylor Swift easter egg to throw shade at Chick-fil-A with free chicken offer – Dexerto

Popeyes uses Taylor Swift easter egg to throw shade at Chick-fil-A with free chicken offer Bloomberg / PopeyesPopeyes new promotion for a free chicken sandwich has an oddly familiar layout that Taylor Swift fans might recognize, and they seem to be throwing shade at another major chicken chain with a hidden message. Popeyes always has their finger on the pulse of the music world, and they even had a Beyonce themed promotion this year, but now, they’re using Swift’s musical conundrums to shade Chick-fil-A. The 14-time GRAMMY winner dropped her new album The Tortured Poets Department on April 19, 2024. The album cover features a moody black-and-white image of the pop superstar with a minimal typeface of the album’s title: Taylor is known for using easter eggs to promote her albums months before they are released or even announced in a bid to keep her fans guessing. Swifties are always trying to guess what the singer will do next, and she has managed to turn her fans into internet sleuths who analyze everything she does. Popeyes new promo is giving fans free chicken sandwiches In honor of National Customer Appreciation Day on May 17, 2024, Popeyes released a new promo for their Golden BBQ Sandwich, which the chicken chain will be offering for free (in the form of 600 bonus points) with any purchase of $10 or more. It’s not the freebie from “The Hungry Loyalty Department” that has made people notice the reference to one of it’s competitors, though. The company added a not-so cryptic tagline with the promo: “pOPEyes says thaNks! rewardS members: yoU caN enjoy a golDen bbq sAndwich on us when You Spend $10.” The capitalized letters say “open on Sundays”, and which chicken chain is infamously closed on Sundays? That’s right, Chick-fil-A. Popeyes isn’t the only restaurant to throw shade at Chick-fil-A’s Sunday closures, and Shake Shack did something similar when promoting a new chicken sandwich back in April. Chick-fil-A is a family-run business, and states that they close on Sundays to allow their staff to have a day off to spend with their loved ones, but it has caused some upset with fans craving chicken after a wild Saturday night. All Swiftie references aside though, Popeyes Golden BBQ Chicken Sandwich is brand new to menus and features a fried chicken breast smothered in BBQ sauce, served in a brioche bun with barrel-cured pickles. The promo for Customer Appreciation Day is around for one day only on Friday May 17, but the Golden BBQ Chicken Sandwich is set to hang around for longer. Whether it will become a permanent menu feature, only time will tell.

Popeyes worker, Myrakle Jackson, made herself at home in her work’s kitchen. Warning others to not do the same so they don’t get fired, Jackson put aside part of her shift to make an entire sheet pan of fried goodies. Popeyes customers have since reacted, asking for the restaurant to include what Jackson made on their menu. Popeyes customers want worker’s exclusive food items on their menu Jackson recorded herself in the Popeyes kitchen with a large mixing bowl and time on her hands. Explaining what she was doing, Jackson expressed, “So TikTok listen, I be at my job using they sh*t to make sh*t I want.” She then shared her personal recipe. By using Popeyes ingredients that she sarcastically said she paid for, Jackson made “fried stuffed mashed potato balls.” The fried mashed potato balls were stuffed with cheese and bacon or cheese and chicken. • Popeye’s settles online debate over boneless wings and you can get some for free – Dexerto

Popeye’s settles online debate over boneless wings and you can get some for free Popeye’sPopeye’s are joining the likes of Wingstop and Papa John’s by deviating slightly from their normal fried chicken to branch out into boneless chicken wings in six flavors. There has been a debate among foodies for a long time that boneless wings are just chicken nuggets, and Popeye’s are giving away free chicken to convert the non-believers. They even teamed up with a famous non-believer, comedian and actor Jimmy O. Yang from Silicon Valley and Crazy Rich Asians, to see if they could get him to change his ways. Are boneless chicken wings a lie? A lot of people online seem to be in agreement with Yang, with the argument being a hot debate on Reddit for some time. In fact, a man even sued Buffalo Wild Wings over calling them wings. The argument generally stems from the terminology, because actual chicken wings do, biologically, have bones in them. Boneless chicken wings are not chicken wing meat with the bones taken out, they are made from 100% chicken breast. Therefore, technically, they are a lie because the meat doesn’t even come from a chicken wing. That being said, they are easier to eat, and when they’re covered in all that delicious sauce, who even cares about the debate? Popeye’s new boneless wings What’s even hotter than the debate though, is Popeye’s new boneless wings flavors, which include classic, honey lemon pepper, signature hot, honey BBQ, sweet ‘n spicy, and roasted garlic parmesan. “Our new Boneless Wings are a game changer. Our culinary team brought the best flavors from our existing wing platform to this new boneless offering to give our guests the best of both worlds,” Jeff Klein, the president of Popeyes North America, stated. They were so confident in their new wings’ ability to convert someone that they interviewed Yang after he had tasted them, and it seems that Popeye’s confidence was not ill-placed. “Okay, you got me. I wasn’t acting at all. I never thought I’d say this, but I’m officially a boneless believer,” Yang shared in a statement. “Popeyes has made a boneless wing so good that I’m eating my words. I used to be a hater — honestly, I’ve always been a hater — but after trying these, holy sh*t, they’re incredible. If these wings can convert me, they can convert anyone.” How to get free chicken from Popeye’s Popeye’s are so confident that they are giving away a free 6-piece Boneless Wings in any flavor with any portion of $10 or over, both as a thank you to loyal customers and a challenge for those who are ready to be converted. You can grab the deal now through July 14 on the website or via the Popeyes app. If you are someone who believes boneless wings are just chicken nuggets, then you might want to check out KFC’s all-new saucy nuggets instead.

Police investigating after woman gets single Taco Bell sauce pack on DoorDash TacoBell/PixabayA single Taco Bell sauce pack sent to a woman on DoorDash is being investigated as more than just a harmless prank. Delivery apps like Uber Eats and DoorDash make getting food easier than ever, and that includes bizarre customization options, but one woman’s absurd order has sparked a police investigation. Getting free food at your door is normally a pretty fun experience, but when it’s just a single pack of hot sauce from Taco Bell, it can be pretty underwhelming. That’s what happened to one Wyoming woman who could have been targeted by fraud. According to Oil City, after a woman received a single Taco Bell sauce for the third time, her DoorDasher was convinced it was a prank and reported the suspicious activity, but that’s when police made an interesting discovery. Woman keeps getting sent single Taco Bell sauce packs Deputy Chief Brent Wasson of the Gillette Police Department says the single Taco Bell pack had been delivered earlier in the weekend and at the same time something suspicious happened. Wasson revealed that someone had tried to get the woman’s info to try to open a credit card and make a whopping $3,800 in purchases. Not only that, but the woman’s daughter says she’s been getting creepy texts, from what police determined to be a spoofed number, asking for her name. While the woman was able to contact her bank and get out of the charges, the issue is serious enough that the police are continuing their investigation. • Pizza Hut’s newest creation looks like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle – Dexerto

Pizza Hut’s newest creation looks like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Pizza Hut, Instagram: Teenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesIt’s only available in Taiwan, but Pizza Hut has just released a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle pizza creation that would make Michelangelo proud. While fast food restaurants often have local delicacies on their menu in foreign locations, Pizza Hut Taiwan went to a whole different level with this newest creation. Sora News reporter Yui Imai showed off this new limited-edition special pie, called a Cheese Mugwort Mochi Rice Cake Turtle Pizza. The pie is a new take on a traditional Taiwanese mugwort dumpling called a cao zai guo, which is usually filled with sweet red bean paste. This pizza is stuffed and covered with the traditional ingredients of bean paste and shredded dried daikon radish, but is topped hash browns and stir-fried prawns. But those additions aren’t the biggest draw of the creation. Instead of a traditional circle, this pizza is shaped like a turtle, with a round shell surrounded by four flippers and a head. The head is notably covered with green mogwort mochi and red bean paste, making it look like the headband of a Ninja Turtle. The result, according to Imai, is a cheesy delicacy that creates “a delicious sweet-and-salty flavor combination.” This isn’t the first time that Pizza Hut has shown its affinity for the Turtles, as the chain had a special offering last year to go along with the release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. But none of their previous collaborations can touch a creation that puts a cheesy version of Donatello on your plate.

  • Pizza shop furious after Uber Eats cancels $600 worth of food – Dexerto

Pizza shop furious after Uber Eats cancels $600 worth of food TikTok: @santorospizzeriatpaA pizza restaurant was left feeling furious after Uber Eats cancelled a $600 order, despite the employees spending all night preparing it. Workers at Santoro’s Pizzeria shared a video of a chaotic occurrence when they received an order totaling up to $600. The clip begins with two of the workers gazing down at the screen, utterly shocked by what they see. “It says, ‘The order timed out because your store didn’t accept it. You won’t be paying,’” one of the women reads. Apparently, Uber Eats chose to cancel the $600 order. One of the male workers was clearly angered by the news, shouting “No f**king way,” as the video pans in his direction. All the while, one of the female employees attempted to call Uber Eats to resolve the matter. “This is why third parties are a problem. Because of these situations,” the man states in frustration. Uber Eats apparently canceled the order in the morning, after the workers had spent the night shift getting most of the food together. TikTok weighs in on chaotic $600 order After the video was posted on the platform, people were quick to weigh in and share their thoughts. Some people had been through similarly unpleasant experiences when using a third-party delivery service. “When I used a third-party delivery service (Deliveroo) the driver walked straight into my building without knocking… and didn’t even follow the delivery instructions. As a woman who lives alone, this is scary.” “When I worked at a pizza place… we refused to use third parties… not worth it and they take so much in fees,” another shared. One, however, thought that the blame lay with the person who ordered the $600 delivery. “They should have ordered directly with the restaurant with a massive order like this… and they should have ordered ahead,” they wrote. Thankfully, the situation was resolved after they contacted the customer directly, who later came to pick up the order themselves. Uber Eats also refunded Santoro’s Pizzeria. Another pizza worker went viral earlier in February when she destroyed a pizza order placed by her ex.

  • Pizza Hut unveils bizarre Grilled Cheese Ramen – Dexerto

Pizza Hut unveils bizarre Grilled Cheese Ramen FlickrPizza Hut might have just released its most unusual menu item yet, and it combines two wholly unexpected ingredients, grilled cheese and ramen noodles. Pizza Hut is famous for its classic pizzas that tend to stick to the basics. In the US, many of the flavors we find on menus have been there since the restaurant’s inception back in 1958. However, international releases prove to be a bit more interesting. In Japan, Pizza Hut has just released a new item called Yaki Cheese Ramen, or Grilled Cheese Ramen. Perhaps the most interesting thing however is that even Pizza Hut Japan have been keeping this new dish a relative secret. It’s not too easy to find on the brand’s website, and requires some digging around. After some investigation by Sora News, an outlet dedicated to international fast food releases, they revealed that Pizza Hut had actually quietly released the new dish in mid-March, but were keeping it under wraps. Produced in collaboration with Japanese ramen chain Tenka Ippin, the new dish is incredibly simple in terms of ingredients, combining cheese, seasoning and noodles as its key components. The new cheesy ramen dish is classified as a side menu item, and it costs 560 yen (US$3.48). This isn’t the first weird international Pizza Hut item we’ve come across. In June, Pizza Hut teamed up with the classic anime show Cardcaptor Sakura to release a brand new new menu that proved to be absolutely wild. Pizza Hut isn’t the only pizza brand to create some come up with some interesting international collabs however. Domino’s released a pizza that featured a cheesy-volcano in the center back in January.

She explains that she pulled up to an apartment complex, where she was told that she’d be paid in cash. The worker felt a sense of unease, as the place was oddly dark. “I think it was a setup because it was all very convenient. It was a cash order, it was too poorly lit, the apartment was completed, and the guy was waiting for me when I got there,” Savannah said. Suddenly, a man jumped out from behind a pillar at her, before proceeding to put the gun to her head and telling her to hand over the pizza. “Thankfully, he didn’t ask for anything else because I had cash in my pocket. I had my AirPods, my phone like he could have gotten away with a lot more, but he just wanted the food,” she told viewers. • Pepsi recalls popular ‘sugar free’ soda which is actually packed with sugar – Dexerto

Pepsi recalls popular ‘sugar free’ soda which is actually packed with sugar Twitter: New York PostPepsiCo decided to withdraw one of their most popular ‘zero sugar’ beverages, after action taken by the US Food and Drug Administration. The FDA is responsible for protecting public health, “by assuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, medical devices, (as well as) our nation’s food supply, cosmetics, and products.” The most recent product recall conducted by the FDA concerns the ‘zero sugar’ Schweppes Ginger Ale. More than 200 cases of this product have been officially removed from distribution. This recall would affect cases of Schweppes Ginger Ale set to ship to Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The agency told consumers that PepsiCo had launched an internal investigation on March 9, 2024. The investigation found that some the products labeled “zero sugar” actually contained “full sugar” — ultimately making them unsafe for diabetic consumers. As of yet, it is not known whether or not any affected products were consumed by customers. The FDA have advised consumers to check products labelled with the code, May 20 24 MAY20240520VS02164 — MAY20240550VS0216, as they should be avoided. This is not the first time PepsiCo has been the subject of investigation by the FDA, as an investigation by Consumer Reports found that 12-ounce samples of Pepsi One in The Golden State contained more than 29 micrograms of 4-methylimidazole (MeI) per can. This chemical is responsible for the caramel coloring in popular soda drinks, as well as beer. According to California’s Proposition 65, food or beverages that expose consumers to more than 29 micrograms per day must carry a health warning label. In response to concerns, the FDA said: “To ensure that the use of Class III and Class IV caramel coloring in food continues to be safe, the FDA is currently reviewing all available data on the safety of 4-MEI. In 2018, the FDA published an assessment of potential consumer exposure to 4-MEIExternal Link Disclaimer from the use of Class III and Class IV caramel coloring in food products.
