It seems that while most major professional sports leagues are on hiatus due to the ongoing global health crisis, many footballers have turned to FIFA as a way to use their competitive edge, with many even streaming their progress. Not long after Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero explained to Argentina teammate Eduardo Salvio that the only way to get a good team is to “buy FIFA points,” his former City teammate – Nasri – has made another big complaint known. Posting multiple tweets across the weekend of May 2-3, the former Arsenal and Manchester City star addressed EA directly, sharing screenshots of his misfortune in disconnecting from the FIFA 20 servers. The first was a very simple one on the morning of May 2, with Nasri simply tweeting the official FIFA account a sarcastic “thanks” with a photo of his server disconnect popup. That said, though, maybe players of Nasri’s calibre calling it out is what’s needed for problems to be looked at quickly. Not long ago, Nasri’s Ultimate Team starting XI was revealed, showing that he’s clearly not a bad player – but if he’s unable to finish games, it’s going to be hard to prove he’s as talented on the sticks as he is on the pitch.

Salif Sané’s FIFA 20 Ultimate Team starting XI revealed Instagram: doudou_salouf / EA SportsSchalke 04 defender Salif Sané is clearly a big fan of FIFA 20 Ultimate Team, with his starting XI being revealed and showing that he’s clearly happy to sink time into the game to build his squad. Sané’s Schalke squad currently sits in sixth place in the ever-more competitive German Bundesliga, seven points outside of the Champions League qualification spots and currently on course to make the Europa League qualifiers. Although Sané hasn’t always been able to nail down a starting spot for Schalke, he’s taken his skill – and his 99-rated Ultimate Team card – to FIFA 20, and he’s got a pretty decent team supporting him. Though Sané has a backline consisting of mostly Bundesliga players, the rest of his squad is filled with some of the biggest and best icons in the game, with four icons finding a spot in his starting XI including Ruud Gullit, who just about every player seems to love. With a squad rated 88 overall with 100 chemistry, there’s little Sané could do to elevate this team, though there are a couple of strange additions or omissions that the most impassioned FUT 20 players might take issue with. Most interesting is probably the inclusion of Crystal Palace’s van Aanholt, who makes little to no sense in this team. Someone like Roberto Carlos would be perfect there or, to stick to his full Bundesliga back-four, someone like Angelino or Alphonso Davies seem more obvious picks. Although, as they say, the best form of defense is attack, and maybe that’s what Salif opted for here.

EA confirms Russian clubs & national team won’t feature in FIFA 23 EA SPORTSIn light of current world events, EA SPORTS has confirmed that Russian clubs and the national team will not be available in FIFA 23. The nation was taken out of the game in FIFA 22. EA SPORTS has been slowly revealing more information regarding FIFA 23, including all new features and quality of life restructures as well as the release date. One thing that’s not coming though is Russian clubs and the national team. “EA SPORTS stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and like so many voices across the world of football, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine,” the company told Eurogamer ahead of the title’s September launch. “In line with our partners at FIFA and UEFA, EA SPORTS will not include the Russian national team or Russian clubs in FIFA 23.” It comes after they took out Russian clubs and items from FIFA 22 back in March. This wasn’t just exclusive to EA SPORTS’ footballing title, with all their sports titles cutting out any ties to Russia. Russia will not feature in the World Cup mode for FIFA 23 either after failing to qualify for the event. However, EA SPORTS hasn’t put the lid on the situation yet, with the door open to re-introduce Russian clubs, players, and the national team if the situation calls for it. “As this deeply troubling situation evolves, we’re continually reviewing the steps we can take,” the company told players back in March.

Once you reach a certain stage in the Ultimate Team calendar, you’ve normally got a pretty good idea of the squad or players you want to build, but if you had any plans of skipping Éder Militão’s pricey SBC, you might want to think again. Although it ends up costing in excess of 500,000 coins to complete the SBC, RunTheFUTMarket – real name Nick Bartels – can’t get enough of the card, and he hardly had a single bad word to say of it. The Real Madrid centre-back is 90-rated, meaning he isn’t exactly the most prolific player in his position, with the likes of teammates Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos much more desired players to have lining up in front of your keeper, especially with their Team of the Season So Far upgrades. Bartels, though, thinks Militão has a lot to offer – and says he might even opt for him over Varane, who has become a FIFA Ultimate Team favorite in recent years. After showing off some gameplay of his new squad member, Nick said that Flashback Éder Militão is “nothing short of phenomenal.” (Timestamp 12:14 for mobile viewers) He went on to say that it is “literally a fantastic card” and that “he was hanging with Rashford, was catching up with everybody and anyone” before describing the card as “endgame,” which we can only assume means he thinks a lot of it. He did add, though, that he wasn’t entirely convinced by Militão’s strength, although it didn’t seem to put him off using the card that much, and he seemed more to be accepting that the card isn’t entirely perfect. Out of everything in FIFA 21, the weekly FUT Champions Weekend League is one of the most popular modes in the community, giving players of all skill levels the opportunity to compete for rewards across a period of 30 matches. Players are looking to grasp every possible advantage to win their FUT Champions games. Unfortunately, that means a lot of players are opting to play the meta formations and maintain a lot of depth. For players who do not like to play in this manner, it can be difficult to compete against this style of play. A recent video released by RunTheFUTMarket has revealed some great tips to help players win more FUT Champions games whilst maintaining their own style of play. RunTheFUTMarket’s tips For FUT Champions The first tip he recommends is for players to find a formation that works for them: “Find a formation that works for you, then start to understand what can I do in this formation to limit my counter-attacks and increase my attacks.” This is a basic one but it’s definitely important for improving in FUT Champs. There’s no point playing a style of FIFA you dislike, try out new formations and tactics to figure out which style you prefer. Recognizing their danger and making the effort to avoid losing the ball with your midfielders is sure to stop you from conceding as many goals. EA handed Kurt the ban after “multiple abusive and threatening personal attacks” aimed at EA employees and other pro players. Streamer/YouTuber RunTheFUTMarket, is the latest big name in the FIFA community, alongside Kurt and pro player Tekkz, to come out and criticize EA openly about the state of the game. you can make what you want of the Kurt excerpts or the “fun games” part but the forums part is just a straight lie. Get a grip. — Nick (@NickRTFM) February 24, 2020 RTFM has taken to both Twitter and YouTube to voice his concerns, the biggest of which revolves around EA’s conflicting actions and statements regarding their forums. In their official statement, the company said they are open to feedback, and encourage anyone to share their thoughts on the EA Forums. However, the popular YouTuber alleges that this is not true, claiming that the forums’ moderators have banned discussions regarding dynamic difficulty, momentum, and the servers. In his video, titled “MANIPULATION & POWER IN FIFA”, he claims that the moderators have clearly stated that discussions about these subjects will result in bans. Discussion about the FIFA forums begins at 10:30 for mobile users. He argues that EA cannot have it both ways: they can’t allegedly shut down discussion and ban users on their forums, but then take to their official platforms and broadcast that they will always encourage it. RTFM’s issues with EA and FIFA extend well past the forums, however. Regarding the ban, he insinuated earlier in his video that the issues between Kurt0411 and the company stem from a beef between the former pro and a member of the community management team. He also said that while he understands the ban from competitive play, he believes that closing Kurt’s FIFA account was a step too far: “Banning him from competitive play, I get it, maybe he crossed the line. But everybody should have the freedom to play this damn game.” I’m part of the problem cause I’m not making a change cause I still log onto this game everyday. The YouTuber has been trying out other games in recent times, despite gaining a large following by playing FIFA, where he’s amassed over 300,000 subscribers on his channel chiefly due to successful Ultimate Team market videos. However, if his viewers thought trying out Konami’s eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 instead of FIFA was all about a protest against EA, he assured them during a broadcast on March 10 that it’s all about enjoying what he’s playing – something FIFA doesn’t seem to be doing for him. During the livestream, he said: “I feel like a lot of us have reached our breaking point now, taking action upon it and doing some different things to make it better,” and claimed he couldn’t see himself consistently streaming the game until the Team of the Season come out. Until then, fans of Nick’s streams should probably expect him to experiment with more games moving forward, at least until TOTS come out in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team. The next game he decided to play, though, might be the funniest yet. As regular FIFA players will know, career mode is one that hasn’t really lived up to expectations this year and particularly didn’t get off to a good start, due to a frustrating bug that would force the AI to select very inexperienced players. With that said, nothing was going to stop Nick from diving right into a career of another game after watching a trailer. That game was, yes, Farming Simulator. Comments immediately flooded the chat, mostly sarcastic, with people suggesting he should start a Road to Glory on the game. So, he obliged, picked the ‘Start from Scratch’ option and jumped right into the action. Viewers made even more jokes throughout the stream, asking the whereabouts of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe – which he said were hidden away in the barn – as well as comparing different parts of the mode to the Ultimate Team market. Soon enough, though, he returned to PES. Whether or not we’ll see RunTheFUTMarket continue to experiment with very different games to FIFA, like this, in the near future remains to be seen, but it certainly seemed to be a refreshing change for the streamer.

Team of the Season So Far – more commonly abbreviated as TOTSSF – released late in April, celebrating the incredible performances of the world’s best footballers up to this point in the season across all different leagues and nations. One of the players to receive a TOTSSF card in the Community Vote team is Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha, with a hugely boosted 92-rating that brings him level with some of FIFA’s top talent. After buying Zaha’s fresh upgrade, Bartels talks viewers through some of his stats, including huge boosts to his positioning, vision, finishing, and passing, among other things, before jumping into a game. As usual, Nick played a dominant game, showing some of his – and Zaha’s – highlights that included 7 goals in just three games, clearly capable of performing well for the side. However, after playing a few games with him, RunTheFUTMarket suggested that Zaha isn’t really worth the 835,000 coins he paid, saying he’s “more of a 500-600,000 card” due to his 3-star weak foot and because “his first touch is a little weird.” (Timestamp 10:36 for mobile viewers) He does say that Zaha is better than some other Premier League strikers, such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s Headliners card, but that he would opt for the likes of Son Heung Min’s 91-rated Team of the Week Moments card despite its bigger price tag. Bartels also explains the price is hard to justify due to Zaha’s poor chemistry links, unless you have an entire Premier League team, because you could use the same amount of coins to pick up a Gold Neymar and Gold Mbappe, both of which are as good as or better than Zaha and will have better links, too. Over time, Zaha’s price might start to drop as players realize he isn’t as valuable as the current price tag suggests, but for now, we advise listening to RunTheFUTMarket and investing your coins elsewhere.

As players buy and sell cards every day, it can be difficult to predict whether or not your team’s valuation will be worth higher or lower from one day to the next. To solve that problem, as prices of many cards are fallen massively since its early October launch, Nick has now proposed a US Government-style stimulus package. Back in April, Congress passed a package that saw many American citizens handed $1,200 to get the economy back moving. But, would it work in FIFA? RunTheFUTMarket’s FIFA 21 “stimulus” idea explained RunTheFUTMarket put the idea forward during his October 19 upload, where he claimed the market would soon stabilize if EA handed out free coins to everybody. The idea may seem popular, or even wacky, on the surface but he laid out the proposal during the video. He said: “The market, again, is struggling big time. Most cards you have probably bought in a team are down. Look, I’m proposing to EA SPORTS that we need a stimulus package. 85,000 coins per week to every single person who plays FUT. “If we can get a stimulus package quickly, it should be enough to inflate and keep the market up, because right now the market is not surviving.” Segment starts at 1:37 in the video below. Would it ever happen? The content creator ran through a few examples of cards that fluctuate a lot on the high end, using Newcastle’s Allan Saint-Maximin TOTW card as an example. That wasn’t the only one, either, explaining that many have fallen through the floor in terms of value. “At this rate, everything is going to be discard value in a couple of weeks – at this rate,” he claimed. “We’re going at an alarming rate, currently, of the market. It’s not good guys.” Now, this is something EA have never implemented in their game, and are unlikely to ever pull the trigger in such a way. So much revenue made each year from FUT packs – based on the challenge of accruing more coins. Therefore, this would seemingly dampen the hopes of any stimulus package ever coming to light. Should the market continue to rapidly drive down the prices of players, the developers can step in with new price point brackets for minimum listings. That’s one way things have changed in the past. No doubt players will rally behind the idea, especially the big spenders, but it’s unlikely to happen any time soon.

The Borussia Dortmund striker has set the world alight this season and become one of the game’s hottest commodities, and he was rewarded as such with a TOTS So Far boost, resulting in an incredible 95 rating. This places him firmly in the upper echelon of players available in the game. Now Nick ‘RunTheFUTMarket’ Bartels has played a few games with him, the content creator has revealed that he absolutely loves the card. Bartels’ experience with FUT might just be a few steps above the rest of us, and he’ll often give his critique of new cards, SBCs and promos. He even keeps viewers in the loop on which cards to cop or drop in Ultimate Team. Recently, we’ve seen him sing the praises of Militao’s Flashback SBC, but recommend against TOTSSF Zaha. Now, it looks like he’s got high hopes for TOTSSF Haaland. Is TOTS So Far Haaland worth buying? If you’re looking to buy the Norwegian wonderkid on the FUT market, you might be second-guessing yourself over his hefty price tag of 1 million coins. This is a lot to part with, but RunTheFUTMarket suggests the purchase is very much worth it during his review of the card, saying that “for 1 million coins, this is an amazing card.” His main strengths, Nick says, are in his first-time and finesse shots, adding that Haaland was “the standout player on the team” when tested. FIFA 20 issue might let Ultimate Team players score ghost goals EA SPORTSFIFA 20 bugs don’t get too much attention if they’re impacting Career Mode or other offline games, but this new issue in Ultimate Team appears to be awarding goals for shots that don’t hit the back of the net. Now, we don’t have to lecture Weekend League players, or those playing Squad Battles and Division Rivals, about the importance of getting some luck from time-to-time. Last minute winners, dubious decisions, and making fine margins count is what the game mode is all about. With that being said, having goals awarded where it looks like it shouldn’t stand is surely the worst thing that could possibly happen to you in a match. Just when the game’s detractors thought things couldn’t get much worse, well, another annoying bug looks to have reared its head. Ghost goals are something of myth and legend in the FIFA series. Everybody has a friend who claims to have scored one, but doesn’t have the footage to back it up, raising suspicions about whether or not it actually happened. It’s been a recurring thing over the years. Some Redditors might think one user – asapthac – has scored one, as they recorded and shared a clip online. In what was jokingly dubbed as a “Goal of the Day” submission, the player makes a successful string of passes from back to front, quickly putting their opponent in a compromising position. As one of the forwards receives it on the right side, they come back inside and unleash an effort at goal, only to see the ball not land in the net. That didn’t stop the player, and his teammates, from celebrating though – as a goal was given. Without the privileges of a Video Assistant Referee to help the referee, the goal was awarded as if everything looked totally normal, but any player would understandably question the decision as it doesn’t exactly look clear cut the first time you see it. Quickly skipping the replay, the poster pulled ahead 3-2 in the Division Rivals bout. On closer inspection, it does look more like a visual problem than a game-breaking bug, which is reassuring. The ball does seem to cross the line, based on the one angle we have, slowed down. With the goal given, this issue might not have wrongfully impacted this match, but it certainly shouldn’t look this. Some members of the community have seen problems like this before. “This happened to me on Career Mode a few FIFAs ago. Angled shot and wide, but given as a goal. Ridiculous that it still exists now,” one user said, while another jokingly added: “That’s fully rancid. I’ve broken a controller for less.” It’s unclear as to how common this glitch is in FIFA 20, although it’s clearly impacting online and competitive modes. It could cause disputes between online players, too, if a goal is to be allowed to stand that looks like it shouldn’t be. If goals are being recorded even when the ball isn’t nestling as it should, who knows, this bug could also disallow goals that do appear to go in as well. Whether or not EA SPORTS are working on a fix for the shooting visuals remains to be seen.

Managerial Masterpieces requires players to have a squad with a maximum overall rating of 77, so it’s not exactly going to be a world class side. However, as a professional player, Brady has his own 99-rated card — and decided that, despite the overall rating limitations, he was going to use it anyway. Perhaps just to flex on his opponents, or simply so that he can have one insanely good player on his team, Brady’s is definitely one of the most unique teams you’ll see in MM. Robbie Brady’s FIFA 21 Ultimate Team Obviously, there’s a very limited pool of options available to use in Managerial Masterpieces, so Brady couldn’t deck his team out with a number of ICONs and Team of the Year cards like most real footballers do. Instead, Brady actually fills his team out with far lower rated players simply so he can slide his own 99-rated pro card in there, which is bound to get opponents worried when they see it pop up before the match. The 91-rated Juventus defender immediately shot to the top of the left-back totem pole. Only Icon Roberto Carlos (91 and 93) and TOTY Andrew Robertson (94) are better on paper. But according to Reev, Sandro overshadows them all. After finishing Sandro’s squad-building challenge — currently priced at just over 530k coins — the YouTuber took him straight into a game. Immediately, Reev dubbed him “phenomenal,” and added he’s “pretty much an Icon.” “He’s probably the best left-back you can get in the game now… who’s better? Since that point, the 19-year-old has been cast into stardom – becoming a regular for Los Blancos, making 59 appearances and bagging seven goals. He’s even become a key figure with FIFA 20 too. Starting up the game places you in a Volta game between Vinicius and a few of his teammates, while the FIFA Ultimate Team menus have plenty of his images. Though, his actual Ultimate Team squad isn’t as high-powered as you think it might be. The Brazilian’s team was revealed by Reddit user Timmo1984, who noted that they’d come up against him in a recent match. Obviously, to prove it was the real deal, Vinicius Jr’s 99-rated custom pro player card takes center stage – overshadowing some of his virtual teammates. Though, like many other professional players, he does have plenty of Icons with Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, and Zinedine Zidane – his current manager at Real Madrid – all getting in on the action. Since joining Real Madrid in 2014, Marco Asensio has cemented himself as one of the brightest and best young talent that is trying to take the footballing world by storm. There have been plenty of ups – he has got two Champions League winners medals to his name already – but also a few downs, most notably, missing the 2019/20 season with an ACL injury. Though, off the pitch, the versatile forward has also made a name for himself with his FIFA prowess. He recently won the LaLiga Santander Challenge, defeating a number of fellow professionals and even ended up being rewarded with a Player Moments card because of his glory. When it comes to Ultimate Team, however, the 24-year-old appears to have an even deadlier lineup at his disposal. Generally speaking, forwards and midfield players will often have more stars in their skill ratings than defenders or, especially, goalkeepers. That’s why it’s not uncommon for high-rated defenders to have low stars in these kinds of categories. Courtois is one of the most prized keepers in FIFA 22, boasting a base 89 overall rating, and he thinks it’s time EA SPORTS’ analytics team gives him more credit for his ground game. As it stands, the left-footer has a one-star skill rating and a 3/5 rating for his weak foot, but he wants to see some buffs in the future. The next major reshuffle, of course, will be FIFA 23. Courtois wants FIFA 23 card upgrade To prove his boots are worth five-star moves, the Madrid goalie directed a video of himself during team practice to the studio of him strutting his stuff. They join a long line of top teams including Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and their Spanish rivals Barcelona in embracing esports. In the official post, Real Madrid outlined their plans for entering FIFA Online 4 – the Asian offshoot of the FIFA series in the western world, made by South Korean based EA Spearhead and distributed by Tencent. “Real Madrid e-sports team was formally established and will compete for the next season’s FIFAONLINE4 professional league FSL. This is the first entry for Real Madrid into the field of e-sports. The club hopes to be able to expand the interaction channel between the club and Chinese fans through the establishment of e-sports teams. Hala madrid!” Considering Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is also the cover player for FIFA Online 4, the inclusion of Real Madrid makes a lot of sense. If you haven’t, you may just be the epitome of calm — the series’ janky gameplay is renowned across the gaming community. As frustrating moments stack up, gamers fall under the spell of “FIFA rage,” which has seen controllers broken aplenty, and one too many angry messages sent to victorious rivals after a close FIFA 21 Ultimate Team battle. According to a newly-published Leeds University study, however, the notorious “FIFA rage” may actually be good for your health. Not in the moment — especially not for your controller — but overall, the game has a positive effect for players. How, you ask? Well, that’s a very good question. Here’s why FIFA 21 Ultimate Team may actually be good for your health, according to researcher Dr. Andrea Utley. ‘FIFA rage’ actually relieves stress: FIFA 21 report The main reason playing FIFA matches — especially against “total strangers online” — is so good for your health, Dr. Utley explained, is due to the fact that it provides “a reduction in all stress” after playing in three conditions in Ultimate Team. The three conditions are playing against an unknown player, a known player, and the AI engine. These conditions all generate stress reduction, post-game. This is in direct opposition to a player’s condition during a match. The study reports FIFA players will have a “hugely elevated heart rate” during games, which spiked a further 70% in FIFA 21 games where the opposition scored the opening goal. The report also noted there was a “greater level of arousal, rage, and anxiety when playing against a random stranger,” mainly in the ultra-competitive Ultimate Team modes like Weekend League. “The findings are interesting. Playing a random stranger clearly enrages players, but at the end of the game, participants feel less stressed,” Dr. Utley said. “I guess if playing a game of FIFA did not make you feel good, you would not play.” FIFA 21 game equal to “brisk” 20-minute walk Feeling less stressed wasn’t the only positive either. Heart rate spikes from rivals scoring reportedly fires players’ heart rates as high as 140 beats per minute. That equals a brisk walk (average of 135 beats per minute) meaning that conceding in an Ultimate Team game is actually decent exercise. The heart would “remain elevated for the remainder of the game” too, so it stays for nearly 20 minutes. The report’s conclusion was the most interesting: despite “FIFA rage,” every tested player actually had a huge dip in stress and anxiety post-game, win or lose. Surprising, right? Considering just how many people take to FIFA forums to complain about the game, EA’s “shoddy” engine, and the pay-to-win format Ultimate Team has become, it is actually a relatively calming game. So there you have it — why FIFA 21 (and conceding goals in FUT) is actually good for you. A number of top players have started streaming their FIFA antics, with the likes of Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero complaining about the game being pay to win and not having his own 99-rated pro player card. Mohamed Ihattaren has made a good impression on the Eredivisie, Dutch’s highest tier of football, becoming an integral part of PSV’s team as an attacking midfielder or, occasionally, booking it down the right wing. At just 18 years old, he’s probably got a wealth of experience on FIFA, perhaps more than he does on the real pitch… but that doesn’t seem to completely translate to his team’s starting line-up. While some players, such as Wolves’ Diogo Jota, are able to go 30-0 in FUT Champs with their incredible squads, we think Ihattaren might need to make some changes – unless he’s a seriously talented player. While there are some great options in his team, with a number of Icons and huge ratings in there, a few players might make you scratch your head. The team has been found from a Redditor called MennoBeets, who played against Ihattaren, saying he was “pretty good” but that he beat the star 6-5. Promes is looking much more comfortable back home in the Netherlands than he ever did at the likes of Sevilla FC and Spartak Moscow, steadily becoming a player Ajax can rely on. However, the end of the season appears to have ended disappointingly, with the Eredivisie wiping the 19/20 season from the books entirely. We first brought you Quincy Promes’ FIFA 20 Ultimate Team back in January, but it has emerged improved as the Dutch star spends some time in lockdown playing EA’s football simulation title. A FIFA fan by the name ‘swagmasterino36‘ shared Promes’ FIFA Ultimate Team, and it’s significantly different to the one we showed you in January. The 4-3-3 formation has been done away with, replaced with a 4-5-1 with two CAMs. Promes himself still slots in on the left hand side, playing as a LM as opposed to LW. R9 has been pushed forward from CM to CAM, joined by FUT Champions Fernandinho. Ruud Gullit still plays as a holding midfielder. Similarly, Messi has been pushed back to RM, while Frenkie De Jong at ST has been done away with for IF Neymar. However, do any of his current PSG teammates make the cut? Despite being only 27-years-old, Juan Bernat has played for a number of Europe’s biggest clubs. Starting out at Valencia, the left wing-back moved to German giants Bayern Munich in 2014. However, he struggled to oust David Alaba for regular minutes and moved to PSG in the summer of 2018 after fellow Spaniard Yuri Berchiche departed for Athletic Bilbao. It seems like Bernat is spending his time in quarantine the same way as a lot of professional footballers – playing plenty of FIFA 20 Ultimate Team, and he boasts one of the strongest sides we’ve ever seen. One FIFA Redditor has shared Bernat’s starting lineup, after coming up against him in the FUT Champions Weekend League taking place from April 17-19. Bernat’s team is called ‘The Joker’ and, with an overall of 93, it’s not hard to see why. The full-back’s personalized 99-rated card plays at left-back, alongside Virgil Van-Dijk and Paolo Maldini. The defence is rounded off with Headliners’ Kyle Walker who, at 87 OVR, is the lowest-rated player on the team. The midfield is all ICONs, while the attack is built around 96-rated Champions League Lionel Messi. The 97 OVR Champions League version of Alisson Becker plays in goal, to complete a simply insane line-up. The squad is managed by French legend Zinedine Zidane, who is bizarrely managing himself; with the Prime ICON version of Zidane sitting at the right CM spot. PSG’s only representation (other than Bernat himself) is Neymar, who features at LW. Moore left his role at Electronic Arts in February 2017, as he tried his hand at running one of the biggest football clubs in the world, Liverpool FC. However, the 66-year-old has never left his passion for gaming behind entirely, regularly commenting on happenings in the space. On October 7, one of the biggest talking points in the FIFA community emerged, as the developers of the series released a shock statement claiming they are considering renaming the franchise. The agreement between EA and FIFA is worth approximately $150 million per year. The statement reads: “We’re also exploring the idea of renaming our global EA SPORTS football games. This means we’re reviewing our naming rights agreement with FIFA, which is separate from all our other official partnerships and licenses across the football world.” Since then, it has been discovered that EA have tried to patent EA SPORTS FC, which could be a potential name for the future. This was registered in the European Union and in the United Kingdom, according to a New York Times report. Nintendo Switch users blast EA over “ripoff” FIFA 23 Legacy Edition EANintendo Switch players looking to pick up the upcoming FIFA 23 game are left behind once again, with EA confirming that the console will be getting the Legacy Edition and with it, no added features or gameplay elements from FIFA 22. In recent years, each time the Nintendo Switch has received a new FIFA game it has, in essence, gotten a spruced-up version of the previous title. It appears that the same can be said for the upcoming FIFA 23 title. On the official Nintendo store, the game’s listing includes the following: “FIFA 23 Legacy Edition will feature the same Gameplay features and modes from FIFA 22 Legacy Edition without any new development or significant enhancements.” Fans are extremely disappointed to hear that this will be the case yet again. One Reddit user even noted how EA has simply copied and pasted the exact same message onto the Nintendo Eshop for the past four years. In particular, fans are upset that they are still expected to pay full price for the Switch version despite it lacking any new updates or features. Calling out developer EA for their lack of care when it comes to the Nintendo Switch port of each FIFA game. However, the Switch version of FIFA 23 will include all the added women’s teams, players and World Cup mode. So for those worried that you won’t be able to play as your favourite female players, the Nintendo Switch version will still include that. As this is the last FIFA game to be developed by EA, future football games developed by the company could make more of an effect to be real, up to date ports rather than rehashing the content from the previous. Leeds United partners with NiP to start FIFA team in the ePremier League NiP/Leeds UnitedEnglish professional football club Leeds United have established a partnership with longstanding esports organization Ninjas in Pyjamas. The alliance centers around FIFA — specifically for the third season of the ePremier League, the official esports league associated with the top flight of English football. Leeds United have joined the ePremier League after being promoted to the Premier League for the 2020/21 season. At the time of publication, Ninjas in Pyjamas have one FIFA player; Swedish player Olle ‘Ollelito’ Arbin joined the organization in February 2020. The ePremier League was confirmed to return for its third season on November 26. It has a combined prize purse of £40,000 across PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and will see FIFA players represent Premier League clubs. “Promotion to the Premier League has given the club some amazing opportunities so far with involvement in the ePremier League the latest chance for the club to grow and impress,” said Leeds United’s executive director Paul Bell. “Just as Marcelo has done with the men’s first team, we intend on making our presence in the league known and being competitive straight away, creating a partnership with NiP will give us a fantastic foundation to do so. New Survival Mode Coming to FIFA 19 – FIFA’s Attempt at Battle Royale? It’s no secret that the battle royale genre has taken over the gaming industry, with developers scrambling to add it to their game, but surely FIFA, a sports game, can’t wedge it in? Wrong – FIFA has announced a ‘survival’ mode, where your team will lose a player every time you score a goal, in the upcoming FIFA 19. As part of the classic ‘kick-off’ mode – the one which lets you just play a quick match of FIFA against the computer or with friends – Survival will be one of the new options. Detailed via the official PlayStation blog, which also covers the new ‘No Rules’ mode (which scraps fouls, cards etc. for an all out, anything-goes match), Survival is the likely the closest FIFA will get to a battle royale. The match will start off like any other, 11 players per team, standard FIFA rules. But, as soon as a goal is scored, it all changes completely. The team who scores will immediately lose a player, completely at random. Although thankfully goalkeepers are exempt, so no need to worry about that. Because the mode is played with official FIFA rules however, when a player is down to fewer than seven players, the match is abandoned, so if a team scores five, the match is called and the team with the most goals wins. It is certainly an interesting twist on the typical gameplay, because now gaining a 3-0 lead would put you at a serious disadvantage in the man count. It remains to be seen how players will take to the new mode, and how exactly it will play out. Once a team gets a lead and is down to only eight or nine players, perhaps they will shift to an ultra-defensive set-up just to lock in the win? Of course, EA began implementing arena customization in FIFA 20, with the likes of tifos, themes, and badges, but it looks like the devs are going to make an even bigger leap in 2021. New FIFA name potentially revealed by trademarks after rebranding confirmation EA SportsEA SPORTS have filed a new trademark application that could point towards what FIFA games will be called in the future, after the company confirmed they are exploring the idea of rebranding the franchise. In a press release on October 7, EA SPORTS confirmed that they were “exploring the idea of renaming our global EA SPORTS football games,” in a statement that shocked FIFA players. FIFA has continued to be one of the most popular game franchises in the world ever since its inception in 1994, with over a quarter of a century of history behind it. The FIFA games take their title from the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the international governing body for football, and this move comes as they “review their naming rights agreement with FIFA.” Naturally, speculation was immediately rife over what they could possibly change the name of FIFA games to, with the community coming up with all kinds of options. A trademark application filed in the UK on October 1, 2021, could point players in the right direction though, giving an insight into what the games could be called in the future. Going very simple, EA filed a trademark for “EA SPORTS FC,” a rebrand that would seemingly give EA sole namesake over the franchise. The same trademark application was filed in the United States and Europe on October 4. At the time of writing, no other trademarks appear to have been filed since that date. There was an application made in November 2020 for ‘FURY SOCCER’, and while that hasn’t come to fruition yet, it’s impossible to tell whether that’s a possible name that EA are looking at. EA SPORTS FC would still very clearly be a football game, but ultimately, the best judge of the game’s possible new names will come down to the players who have been buying it every year.

New FIFA 21 leak shows big change to Career Mode budgets EA SPORTSFIFA 21 Career Mode budgets haven’t yet been released by EA SPORTS, although leakers have spilled the beans on a feature that will allow you to make any club as rich as Manchester City. Financial Takeovers have been a part of the FIFA series for quite some time now. This is a random injection of money received by the manager to bolster their transfer efforts. However, this year the feature will be changing maybe in the biggest way you can imagine. Unlike past years where this amount has bounced around the £50 million mark (across transfer and wage budgets), the power will be in the manager’s hands for the amount to request for the first time ever – if newly leaked information is to be believed. FIFA 21 Financial Takeover changes imminent The feature was leaked ahead of schedule by Twitter user FIFA CM Content, right from the beta version, on August 26. Posting four screenshots of the new change, the player showed managers can ask for up to £500 million if they fancy it. Clearly, this is a tremendous difference to games from years gone by. Not only that, but it appears you will also be able to disable the feature altogether if you don’t want the increased investment as well. Now, some may say that the option to ask for such ridiculous budgets may ruin the mode, although those who need more than the standard £50 million will be delighted with the move. Soon enough, you may see smaller clubs making headlines with their business a bit more than usual. In previous pitch notes, EA did make a reference to Financial Takeovers as well. They confirmed: “Within the setup of a new Career Mode save you can set the amount of cash you want your club to receive as part of financial takeover. “Whether you want to give your club a whopping 500 million or start with next to nothing, you can customize your experience how you want to.” Read More: How to get a free ICON in FIFA 21 on loan – It didn’t show us how it would work in-game at that stage, though, neither did developers mention a disable option would be present. Due to the sheer size of those game mode deep dives as well, not everybody in the game’s community will have read it line-by-line. New FIFA 22 corner exploit is actually impossible to defend EA SportsSet-pieces can be tough to pull off in FIFA 22, and players are always on the hunt for a method to make them easier. With this slightly unorthodox corner exploit, you’ll be punching the air every time the ball rolls out of play. There’s nothing FIFA 22 players love more than a cheeky trick to give them an advantage over their opponent. Games in FUT Champs and Division Rivals can be incredibly tight, so knowing to score from set-pieces can be a make or break. Deadball scenarios are extremely difficult to score from in FIFA 22, and fans have been desperately searching for cheats like the free-kick exploit. The was also the infamous corner glitch, but a patch in Title Update #4 put a stop to it. If you’ve been left wondering what to do from corners, though, don’t worry. There’s another incredibly effective exploit that guarantees goals if you’re willing to think outside the box to score inside it. How to do FIFA 22 corner glitch after update Call a player over and take a short corner – Play a pass back to your player closest to the halfway line – Knock it back to the goalkeeper – From here, play the ball to the opposite wing that the corner was taken from – Exploit the space to get into a crossing position – Play the ball to the back post – Corners in this year’s game are a game of chance, and it’s extremely rare that simply whipping the ball into the box directly works out. This handy exploit takes advantage of the chaos a corner causes to an opposing team’s positioning. By quickly playing the ball back to your goalkeeper from a corner, the majority of the AI players are bunched in the center, creating lots of space in wide positions. Make sure you go for the opposite wing from the side you took the corner from, as the shift in wings creates the space. While your opponents’ team is scrambling to get back in position, you can quickly get back up the pitch, making it feel like a counter-attack even though you never lost possession. Once you approach the box, your attackers should be overloading the defenders, leaving a man spare at the back post. From there, you know exactly what to do. Stick the ball in the back of the net and break out your best celebration. This technique has the added bonus of negating the chance of being counter-attacked. Even if the move doesn’t result in a goal, by the time you take your shot, your midfielders and defenders will be back in position to keep things tight. Also, unlike previous corner glitches, there doesn’t seem to be an effective counter method right now. As you can see in the above clip from Reddit user Kingfato, the opponent simply can’t move players to close the space fast enough. It might take a few attempts to get the hang of, but once you do, you’ll be making the most of every corner you earn. New FIFA 20 League SBC Player Pick rewards appearing and they’re insane EA SPORTSA number of new FIFA 20 Ultimate Team promo cards have started to appear for some Squad Building Challenges (SBC), meaning that players can now pick up from up to three rewards after completing them. There are a variety of different SBCs for players to work through in FIFA 20, which involve club owners trading in teams of specific cards in return for different packs, coins and sometimes even a choice of promo cards at the end of it as well – once things are all checked off. As of March 15, there appears to have been a change made to several League Squad Builders, meaning that new cards have been added to the rewards. The League SBCs impacted by this change from EA SPORTS are those for the Turkish Süper Lig, Championship, Eredivisie and the Saudi Dawry Jameel League – meaning that four fresh picks have been added to the game and are ready to unlock. These new players, as well as those previously included in the rewards, have been listed below. Previously, the rewards would include just two players. Now, there are three on offer. NepentheZ explains why the FIFA 20 Modric SBC is “outrageous value” EA Sports/IG: NepentheZPopular FIFA YouTuber Craig ‘NepentheZ’ Douglas has explained why the brand new Luka Modric Flashback SBCs in FIFA 20 are such good value, claiming that he is a phenomenal midfielder available at a mid-tier price. A number of FIFA 20 fans have commended EA for their recent SBC additions, claiming they are becoming far better value for coins. The recent Danny Ings TOTSSF Moments card, for example, has been praised for being one of the PL’s best forwards, available at just 250k. The Modric SBC, like a number of FIFA 20’s most recent SBCs, has a basic and premium version of the Croatian midfielder. The first is an impressive 93 OVR CM, while the second comes in at a mind-blowing 96 OVR. Away from the card’s impressive stats, it is a remarkably simple SBC to complete. Only requiring to squads, they can both be completed for roughly 210,000 coins. The 93 OVR Modric, on the other hand, can be completed for just 80,000 coins. “That is exceptional, exceptional value,” Douglas said, after having a look at the Premium Modric’s mind-blowing stats. “Right, before we build it and complete it, because I am going to build it and complete it, that is just an SBC that is too good to be true.” NepentheZ ultimately argued that the card should cost nearer to half a million coins, as opposed to the 200,000(ish) it currently costs. Not only are its stats incredible, but it can be linked with a host of top-tier defenders, like Eder Militao or Diego Carlos. “You can fault this [SBC],” he summarized. However, he then turned his attention to why EA are giving such a good player for such a low price, and suggested that it’s because FIFA 20 is rapidly approaching the end of its life-cycle. “The reason why I think we’re getting these cards and getting them so cheap,” he said, “is because EA are fully aware that this game is as good as done, right? People are playing their last weekend league ever… the only way EA are now from this point onwards gonna be able to get people back on the game is by offering too good to be true content.” While NepentheZ is probably correct, and EA are offering exceptional value SBCs to get players back playing FIFA, it still means that fans are able to get some truly incredible cards for significantly lower prices. Compare Modric to some other La Liga midfielders, and the bargain becomes even clearer. Frenkie De Jong TOTSSF currently sells for upwards of 500,000 coins and Nabil Fekir will set players back 310,000. Modric, at 200,000, is a snip, as NepentheZ is keen to emphasise.

New FIFA 19 Title Update – Patch Notes: FUT, Gameplay, Traits and more! Fans of the massively popular football (soccer) game FIFA 19 will soon have a new title patch to download when want to take to the virtual pitch. The second update for the game since launch will be welcomed by members of the FIFA community, as EA Sports continue to tweak and make changes based on fan feedback. This newest update was officially announced for PC on Tuesday, October 23, with the patch likely to release on consoles like PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on a later date. While EA Sports made a point of not making many changes to gameplay in the first FIFA 19 update, the developers have decided to tweak a few things in update two, removing the bicycle kick ability from players who didn’t have a high enough agility rating to perform it, while also making improvements to goalkeeper AI. EA Sports have also removed the ability to see your opponents team names, club establishment dates and squad names from Division Rivals in an attempt to make it easier for players to find games. FIFA 19 Update – October 23 – Patch Notes Gameplay: Made the following changes: You can now make changes to your Game Plans in the Pause Menu during a match. Changes made to your Game Plans during a match will not be saved after completion of that match. – – Swapping players in the Pause Menu during a match, while on the Balanced Game Plan, will now apply those changes to the other Game Plans. This only applies if you make the changes to the Balanced Game Plan, changes made in the Pause Menu during a match to the other Game Plans will be localized to only those Game Plans and would need to be made manually in the others. Given the above, if making a change to your team due to a red card, for example, make sure that the change is being made to the Balanced Game Plan. – – In situations where the formations being used in your non-Balanced Game Plans are significantly different than those in your Balanced Game Plans, the swaps may not happen automatically. For example, if you are playing with a formation, on your Balanced Game Plan, that has a Left Back, and swap a Striker into the Left Back spot, and then change to a Game Plan where there is no Left Back, such as a three at the back formation, the swap may not be made automatically. – – – This only applies if you make the changes to the Balanced Game Plan, changes made in the Pause Menu during a match to the other Game Plans will be localized to only those Game Plans and would need to be made manually in the others. – Addressed the following issues: The following issues were addressed for volleys where the player fully leaves the ground during the kick, such as a bicycle kick. Some players were incorrectly taking these kicks without meeting the Agility attribute requirements to do these kicks contextually. To further explain the above, these types of kicks can happen, in appropriate situations, for players who have an Agility attribute of 80 or higher, or who have the Flair Trait, without the player having to hold down the ‘Flair Shot’ button. – – These kicks were happening in unrealistic situations, such as when the kicking player was bunched up with other players. – Sometimes the animations for these kicks were happening too fast for some players with higher Agility attributes. – These kicks are now more likely to be impacted by error resulting in potentially less accuracy, speed and spin. The above effect will be more noticeable in situations where executing one of these kicks would be very hard, and less noticeable in situations where executing one of these kicks would be easier. – – – Some players were incorrectly taking these kicks without meeting the Agility attribute requirements to do these kicks contextually. – Rarely, keepers were not picking up the ball when it was close to them. – Rarely, keepers were trapping the ball outside of the box, despite an attacking player being near them, instead of clearing the ball. – Rarely, when the keeper was rushing out of the net, you were unable to take control of him using the ‘Move Keeper’ controls. – Rarely, after positioning your keeper with ‘Move Keeper’ controls, the keeper would dive out of the way of the incoming shot. – Rarely, keepers were not picking up the ball after knocking it down with a tip down save. – When playing in a mode with two human controlled players on a team, such as in Pro Clubs or Co-op Seasons, the opponent’s defenders were not responding to an attacker running behind the defensive line during a goal kick. – When taking a goal kick, where the target for the kick is very far down the field, the ball was travelling too fast. – Players will no longer wait to take a throw in due to a keeper being out of position. – FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT): Made the following changes: We have made changes to the Division Rivals pre-match flow in an effort to reduce the difficulty of some players finding a match. Your opponent’s FUT Club Established Date will no longer be displayed. – Your opponent’s FUT Club name and Squad Name will no longer be displayed. – Your opponent’s online ID will no longer be displayed on the screen with one exception. You will still be able to see your opponent’s online ID if you use the ‘List Members’ button, which we are working to remove in a future title update when available. – – We are looking to continue to make changes in this area in future title updates when and if available. – – Addressed the following issues: The impact to a player’s attributes from Chemistry were not properly displaying in the Pause Menu of a FUT Online Match. This was a purely visual issue with no impact to gameplay. – – The Squad Battles refresh timer was very rarely not counting down correctly for some players. – The Daily Objectives refresh timer was very rarely not counting down correctly for some players. – The latency bars in Division Rivals were not properly updating based on the latency to the dedicated game server location being used for the match. – Sometimes the game was crashing at the start of a match in FUT Online Draft. (PC Only) – The change to your Skill Rating was not being visually depicted as part of the end of the match flow in Division Rivals after a loss. – Sometimes a player’s FUT Coin balance would display as 0 after being outbid on an Item on the FUT Transfer Market. This was a visual issue only. – – Stability issue when rapidly pressing buttons on multiple controllers while on the Apply Consumable screen. – Rarely, when viewing a Champions Channel replay, you would receive an error. – Online Modes: Addressed the following issues: Resolved some issues where the Pause Menu would not close, and would remain on the screen, after the countdown timer had reached 0. – Sometimes, in Pro Clubs, your Virtual Pro would be playing the wrong position in a match. This issue was only impacting certain positions when playing in certain formations. – – Career Mode: Addressed the following issues: Sometimes the game would hang after checking the Mail Inbox immediately after the transfer window deadline day ended. – Some Traits had a blank icon on the Attributes panel of the Squad HUB. The Traits impacted by this were the Traits that were added to the Front End in the previous title update. – This issue was visual only. – – The Playmaker GTN Scouting Instruction no longer has the (CPU AI Only) tag on it. This was a visual only issue caused by a Traits change in a previous title update. – – Game Modes: Addressed the following issues: The EFL Championship trophy is now being presented in the final match of the EFL Championship Cup. – Kick Off: Addressed the following issues: Having more than 89 unlinked Kick Off Names was causing an error to appear when proceeding to the match selection screen. – The wrong Favorite Team crest and name combination would be showing on the Kick Off tile if the active account was switched. – If one player set themselves to ‘Ready’ on the Kit Selection Screen, while the other player backed out of the screen at the same time, the player who has set themselves to ‘Ready’ would no longer have any functionality on the Team Select screen. – Rarely, Kick Off names that were not created by the player would appear in the list of available Kick Off names to select. – Traits: Addressed the following issues: The Chipped Penalty Trait no longer had any functionality in gameplay and will no longer display in the Front End. Nepenthez explains the biggest problems with the FIFA 21 FUT market NepentheZ/EA SportsPopular FIFA 21 content creator Craig ‘Nepenthez’ Douglas claims the so-called #eagate scandal that has rocked the community over the past week just goes to show how terrible the market in FUT really is. Chances are by now you’ve heard about the scandal involving an EA employee scalping FUT ICON cards that aren’t on the market to players for cold hard cash, dubbed “EA Gate” by the community on social media. Besides the obvious ethical implications of running a back-alley operation like this, the whole situation has left a bad taste in a lot of players’ mouths, with it being pointed to as just the symptoms of s deeper, underlying problem in the game. In a video released on March 10, Nepenthez broke this sentiment down, and explained that it’s the fact most highly rated and sought after FIFA cards are only available for obscene amounts of money – if they’re even available at all. “One thing that this does kind of really expose is just how bad the market in FIFA is, that people are willing to spend thousands of dollars on virtual cards in a one-year game cycle because they’re unobtainable otherwise,” Douglas explained. “If you want this Pele card, you don’t really have a choice except to buy it from the black market.” The fact people are driven to less-than-reputable card sellers because the items they want aren’t on the in-game market is one part of the problem, but the other is that, even if they are, they’re so expensive they’re basically impossible to get anyways. “I’ve played about 1400 hours of FIFA 21, and never in a million years could I afford one of these cards, if it were on the market,” Nepenthez pointed out. “The fact that these cards, that people are paying real money for, are so inaccessible, is the biggest problem here.” Video below starts at 8:21 for mobile users. But that’s not all: Even people who did it the “right way” according to Nepenthez, by buying their FUT Coins in-game with thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars, couldn’t even afford most of the ICON Prime moments cards. “Even if they could, they’re not on the market,” the streamer pointed out. “It’s just shambolic people are being forced to go to a black market to buy ICONs because they are inaccessible otherwise in a yearly-cycle game.” EA has promised to investigate the allegations that one of their employees was running their own, unsanctioned one-stop ICON shop, but that might not be enough for players who want to see fixes to the problems Nepenthez laid out here. Whether anyone at EA Sports is listening and paying attention to the community though, remains to be seen.

NepentheZ explains why Player Moments David De Gea is not worth the coins YouTube: NepentheZ/EA SportsCraig ‘NepentheZ’ Douglas, veteran FIFA streamer and YouTuber, has explained why the recently added Player Moments David De Gea is absolutely not worth getting in Ultimate Team. As part of their commitment to keeping FIFA 20 as fresh as possible, EA Sports recently added a 92 OVR Player Moments David De Gea, celebrating his community work during the ongoing global health crisis. While Douglas commended EA for the recognition of De Gea’s contributions, he criticized the fact it requires a return investment on behalf of players. Similarly, in an April 30 YouTube video, he explained why he doesn’t think the new De Gea card is worth getting, especially when looking at past versions of the Spanish shot-stopper. “I personally am quite happy with the [new] David De Gea, because I missed out on the FUTmas David De Gea,” he said, “but there is a FUTmas David De Gea. So why on earth have they given him a moments card? The moments card has 4 more kicking, 2 more handling, 2 more diving, reflexes, speed and 3 more positioning compared to the FUTmas card – but why?” Essentially, NepentheZ’ argument is that the Player Moments De Gea does not provide a big enough upgrade on the existing FUTmas version. While he commended he EA for recognizing the work De Gea is doing to fight the ongoing pandemic, he suggested it is “weird” that players have to ‘pay’ to earn him. “On the one hand, nice one EA for recognizing this,” he said. “On the other hand, you’re charging people for it. You’re saying ‘David De Gea did something sick, it’s gonna cost you if you want it’.” Timestamp for mobile users: 1:01 The Player Moments De Gea will cost players around 150,000 coins. This is actually relatively cheap for a 92 OVR player, but many argue he is not worth it, especially when compared to the FUTmas version which a number of Premier League based Ultimate Teams will already have. The YouTuber summarized it with a simple “NOT WORTH” evaluation in a recent Instagram post. There is only a 2 OVR difference between the cards, which NepentheZ clearly doesn’t feel is enough to warrant investing another 150,000 coins. It should also be said that there are a number of better PL keepers available to players – most notably the 97 OVR Allisson who features in the Premier League TOTSSF. He’ll set you back considerably more coins though.

It’s no secret that Embiid, one of the NBA’s biggest stars right now, is a huge FIFA fan. It’s practically all he posts about on Twitter, and he’s even playable as an in-game character in VOLTA. Recently he accomplished a major milestone for any player: going 30-0 in FUT Champions. Perhaps to keep his competitive edge, Embidd hasn’t actually posted any pictures of the lineup he went undefeated with. Every player knows you don’t want your opponent to know what they’re facing, but thanks to some investigative internet users we now know what players he used to reach 30-0. Joel Embiid’s FIFA 21 Ultimate Team Embiid’s squad is stacked, to say the very least. It’s even better than the one officially featured in FIFA a few weeks ago, which just goes to show how active a player the big man really is. Looking at the 92 Overall Squad Rating, 100 Chemistry, and six ICON cards present, it’s not hard to see how he achieved 30-0. More FIFA 23 crossovers could follow Marvel heroes & Ted Lasso EA SPORTSEA SPORTS has opened the door to more crossovers in FIFA 23 and beyond after adding Marvel hero cards to Ultimate Team as well as Ted Lasso face scans. Ted Lasso has been running since August 2020, following the journey of the fictional team Richmond FC which started in the Premier League in Season 1. After two campaigns of drama and suspense, the show returns in early 2023 for Season 3. Though, football fans around the world won’t have to wait much longer to see the unconventional coach take the reigns once again in the dugout, as he’s included in FIFA 23. This isn’t the only crossover EA has confirmed, either, with Marvel having their name on the Heroes cards in Ultimate Team. And it appears this is just the start of a trend for the series. Ted Lasso arrives in FIFA 23 In an exclusive interview with Dexerto, EA gameplay design director Kantcho Doskov opened up about seeing Lasso – and his glorious mustache – in the game they helped design. “I was a fan of the show and I was really excited to watch that video. I have played myself with Richmond and Ted Lasso in the game. All the characters are there, the coach is there. And I mean, I’m pretty impressed even as a developer like, wow, we did that, that’s more than I expected even.” When FIFA 22 debuted Create A Club in Career Mode, it was widely speculated that Richmond would be added to the mix. The manager and players will be available when the game goes into early access, on September 27. With the FUT Birthday celebrations finally hitting FIFA 20 Ultimate Team, EA SPORTS have revealed an all-new set of cards for players to unlock and collect. The annual FIFA Birthday in-game celebration is in its 11th year for FIFA 20, and the card available for Portuguese defender Cancelo actually seems to make a fairly potent striker as well, according to LaBelle. To challenge himself with the new FUT Birthday packs, LaBelle put together a team composition with Cancelo up top in the striking position. Coming out as a Right Back in the starting 11, the first major downside to putting the Manchester City defender in attack is his abysmal 59 finishing. To counter this, the FIFA pro employed the sniper chemistry style, which upgraded Cancelo’s finishing ability by an extra 15. “We’re hoping this chemistry style gives him that bump that is necessary, absolutely necessary,” LaBelle explained. “In-game, we’re gonna roll with the 4-4-2. We are not sitting back, we are not waiting. Aggressive defense equals easy offense.” Despite plenty of opportunities, LaBelle’s attacking Cancelo failed to find the back of the net in the first game, which left all the heavy lifting up to Antoine Griezmann, another that’s available as a FUT Birthday special card. As the matches go on, it becomes clear that João has plenty of potential as a striker, but you really shouldn’t be relying on his dribbling skills to get anything done. Instead, he seems to perform better when feeding crosses or passes to his other attackers, or taking shots off of the rebound – which sounds a lot like a modern full back, anyway. While the Portuguese defender will probably never be an elite striker, how well he’s able to fit into the position in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team goes to show how powerful the new FUT Birthday cards are this year. Just don’t go putting somebody like Kylian Mbappé as your keeper, because there’s no team chemistry bonus in the world that would make that a viable strategy.

Karim Benzema rightfully leaped from 13th to the joint highest-rated player after smashing home 44 goals and leading Real Madrid to a Champions League and La Liga title. Robert Lewandowski, Kylian Mbappe, Kevin De Bruyne, and Messi round out FIFA 23’s top five overalls. Ronaldo falls to eighth behind Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk. Both aging superstars still deserve high FIFA ratings, but their on-field performances no longer align with the rising talent around them. Messi’s 91 and Ronaldo’s 90 overall ratings are blatant cases of EA not correctly accounting for a new wave of football stars waiting in the wings. Messi’s first PSG season doesn’t go as planned Coming off a 30-goal, 11-assist tally in his final season with FC Barcelona, Messi was controversially named the 2021 Ballon d’Or winner over Robert Lewandowski. Messi left his boyhood club to form what looked like an unstoppable attacking trio with Neymar and Mbappe at PSG. Unfortunately, the Argentinian’s goal-scoring dissipated in Paris, only finding the back of the net six times in 26 appearances. Still managing to make an impact, Messi finished with 14 assists, but he looked a step off his usual pace. MattHDGamer reveals big change to shooting in FIFA 21 beta EA SPORTS[jwplayer zuUQpFp8] YouTuber Matthew ‘MattHDGamer’ Craig has finally been given the green light to post FIFA 21 beta gameplay clips, explaining that there are some really noticeable changes to shooting already. The beta is a reflection of an early build of EA SPORTS’ next flagship sports game, meaning things are subject to change., as happens every year. Those who didn’t receive a beta code to get their hands on Ultimate Team, Career Mode, Volta, or Pro Clubs early will have been delighted on September 4. A flurry of YouTube videos from top creators were posted, having finally been granted access to broadcast the first playable version in the title’s development cycle. With the embargo lifted, MattHDGamer was one of the first creators to post clips and revealed he had spotted many similarities between this version and FIFA 17. There was one change above all else that caught the eye, though, and that was related to shooting, which has been revamped. FIFA 21 beta gameplay reveals big shooting change Developers had previously confirmed that shooting improvements were on the way in the gameplay pitch notes. That doesn’t always necessarily mean things will change dramatically in-game, though the YouTuber was impressed. Included in his upload was Ultimate Team footage of his first game, as well as a breakdown of other features. He said: “One feature has been improved that you guys may be surprised about, might not have known about, but finesse shots definitely felt a lot more realistic and also, in general, quite powerful. Some of the finesse shots I was scoring guys, especially 20-25 yards out, even with players like the base Martial card. Segment starts at 5:22 in the video below. “The finesse shots were really good. They’ve definitely improved this FIFA and I think that’s a good thing to be fair,” he added before noting that the pitch notes changes of Player Personality and rebalance of finesse animations were evident. Anything else changed? Another feature MattHDGamer said was really prominent was improvements to animations, explaining that unlike previous games where you could easily predict opponent animations to skip by their back line, that’s more difficult this time. Player Personality and an overhaul to animations, allowing the cancellation of movements, makes defending look more unpredictable – he says. MattHDGamer Interview: FIFA 21 needs major changes to FUT Champs & TOTW MattHDGamer / Dexerto[jwplayer JRIEZvjy]YouTuber Matthew ‘MattHDGamer’ Craig has laid out his vision for a revised FUT Champs competition and Team of the Week promo system in FIFA 21, in an exclusive interview with Dexerto. The popular content creator has enjoyed a successful year of creating Ultimate Team videos for his channel, which boasts over 2.3 million subscribers. Those who regularly watch his channel can find pack openings, reactions to updates, and more posted regularly by the Liverpool supporter. With a shed load of FIFA 21 details now out in the open – including new stadiums for Ultimate Team, a major overhaul to gameplay, and more – we wanted to gage his thoughts about the new title. On top of that, he gave us a bit of a wish list as well. MattHDGamer on FIFA 21 Despite EA working long and hard on fresh features for FIFA 20, the game ultimately was marred by gameplay frustrations. We heard similar things from fellow YouTuber Manny, when interviewing him as well. MattHDGamer wants to see these issues go away well, just like much of the community, and believes it should be a top priority. He told us: “So far I’m impressed from what I’ve seen EA are focusing on in terms of gameplay. Gameplay is by far the most important part of FIFA they need to focus on. If they get it right in FIFA 21, then it’ll be brilliant for all of us. However, I can’t say I’m impressed fully yet as I haven’t played the game! If the gameplay is fun then that will fix a lot of issues.” FUT Champs Weekend League If there’s one thing FIFA players know by now, it’s that the weekends can be fairly stressful at times. 30 matches to play, huge rewards up for grabs, and many of the top competitors loading into the tournament to compete. It’s not always enough to fit the games in, either. Though, the YouTuber proposed something more practical. A simple change that could shake up Ultimate Team’s competitive scene for the better. “I would like to see FUT Champions extended to Monday night,” he said. “Only 11.7% of FIFA players qualified for Weekend League in FIFA 20 the whole year, so obviously EA need to do a better job of bringing more players into FUT Champs. “A lot of people work weekends or just don’t have the time to play 30 games over a three day period, extending that would go a long way. I’d like to see zero glitches such as the no loss glitch. If players are cheating they should be banned straight away. Plus monthly rewards need to return as they were good fun to open back in FIFA 17/18.” With more time to play and less games to cram into a short window, this could make competitive FIFA more accessible as well. That said, EA have confirmed no major changes for the competition as of August 2020. It looks unlikely. Ultimate Team promos One criticism that has been made among the community, certainly in recent years, is the number of promos in Ultimate Team. There are now more special card events in the game than you can count on both hands, meaning many players have boosted stats like you would never imagine by the end of the game’s life cycle. MattHDGamer: “I think TOTW needs to be reworked” MattHDGamer said: “I think if each promo could be a bit more unique, then that would be brilliant. We saw the positive feedback people had for Summer Heat, because you could play the game and earn fantastic rewards. “I think if Team of the Week wasn’t so bad we wouldn’t need as many promos. I think TOTW needs to be reworked or even add back in a TOTW tournament to earn some of the best TOTW cards. Each promo needs to have solid cards you can grind towards and not have to buy FIFA packs in order to earn them. They need more creative ideas with promos too, as Summer Heat showed.” If you look at how late Summer Heat was released in FIFA 20 and the mega popularity that come with it, there’s definitely a blueprint there to build on. It was held up as one of the best in recent memory by a lot of people, with rewarding SBC content released throughout. Whether or not any of these changes will be actioned in the next game remains to be seen, but one thing is for certain. MattHDGamer certainly has his finger on the pulse with the community. Many players have wanted this type of overhaul for years. Hopefully, they won’t have to wait many more years to see them come to fruition.

Mason Greenwood’s FIFA 20 Ultimate Team starting XI revealed EA SportsMason Greenwood has burst on to the Premier League scene for Manchester United this season and like most professionals, it appears as if he likes to enjoy rolling teams over in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team as well. Though Manchester United might not be having the most stellar of campaigns under legendary striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Red Devils have found some hope in the form of a few youngsters who might well help shape their future. The key one is, of course, Mason Greenwood. The Bradford-born striker has drawn comparisons to former United forward Robin van Persie and is proving to be a superb choice, whether starting or coming off the bench. When it comes to FIFA, though, you can be sure that he isn’t putting his own special card on the subs bench. His FIFA 20 Ultimate Team lineup surfaced on the FIFA subreddit thanks to a post from Reddit user OBENNYo. Though, unlike some other teams, it didn’t look as if the professional player and the user who posted it played each other in-game. Like plenty of other teams from real-life footballers, Greenwood’s lineup is full to the brim with legendary icons like Ruud Gullit, Patrick Vieira, and Laurent Blanc. He even found a space for United legend Rio Ferdinand. However, as is the key point with most real player squads, he has his own custom 99-rated card leading line and likely wreaking havoc on most opponents he comes across. It’s no secret that most of the younger up and coming players in the Premier League and around the world are also dedicated FIFA players, always looking to build out their Ultimate Team squads to be as strong as possible. For example, in recent weeks we’ve seen the likes of Erling Haaland also have their FUT squads revealed, with the Norwegian star himself housing an ICON-laden team full only of the very best players available in the game. Mount, though, has gone for a slightly different approach to building out his squad, which definitely seems heavily inspired by his experiences in the real world of football. Mason Mount FIFA 21 Ultimate Team revealed In his squad, which was found by charrisard on Reddit, Mason Mount has surrounded himself with more familiar faces than legendary ICON cards, but it will have Chelsea fans a little nervous, as it is full almost exclusively of current Liverpool players. The Spanish midfield player has featured frequently in Diego Simeone’s team during this season, scoring most recently against Valencia in a 2-2 draw at the Mestalla, although in between big matches it appears he finds enough time to play on EA SPORTS’ popular football title as well. After being hit with the shock of matching up against Llorente in an online match, one of his opponents has taken a screenshot of his team and posted it to the FIFA subreddit – showing fans how his lineup stacks up against theirs. Other professionals have had their whole Ultimate Teams revealed in recent months, including Virgil van Dijk, who Llorente will likely match up against when Liverpool and Atletico match up in the Champions League knockout stages. The two legs of the Round of 16 will take place on February 18 and March 11. It will come as no surprise to see the big Dutchman included in Llorente’s team as well, with his base 90 card proving to be one of the most popular players in the FIFA 20 game mode. Kieran Trippier might be getting called Wayne Rooney everywhere he goes in Spain, as reported by the Guardian, but unfortunately an attacking position isn’t quite his natural habitat and his teammate has instead opted to have him lock down the right back role instead. Manny Interview: Big changes FIFA 21 needs in Ultimate Team and gameplay Manny[jwplayer zuUQpFp8]Popular YouTuber Emmanuel John ‘Manny’ Brown has laid out the big changes he wants to see EA SPORTS deliver with FIFA 21, during an exclusive interview with Dexerto. He even told us how many FIFA Points Ultimate Team players may need to buy to be competitive right off the bat. The UK-based content creator is right up there with the biggest in the FIFA scene, boasting over 1.7 million subscribers on his channel. In recent months, he’s been posting everything from Ultimate Team videos to Football Manager, but just like everybody else, one eye has been on what comes next for EA’s flagship title. For the most part, he said to us that he’s optimistic about FIFA 21. Staggered news on the game has been posted regularly but anybody who played FIFA 20 knows the proof is in the pudding, though, not the pitch notes. The actual game will be where it will sink or swim. YouTuber Manny on FIFA 21 Ultimate Team is the most popular and competitive game mode. The franchise basically lives off it these days, generating $1.49 billion in net revenue – according to their fourth-quarter fiscal 2020 earnings call this May. As you would expect, this means a lot of time and effort goes into its development. This year, we have a few new features to look forward to as well. EA have already confirmed sweeping changes for FUT – including Co-Op, FUT Stadium expansion, and more – not to mention everything coming in Career Mode. Gameplay-wise, things appear to have been fixed across the board, too. This includes manual heading, slicker passing, personality-driven tweaks to positioning. Encouraging stuff. Manny told us: “My general feeling about FIFA 21 is just optimistic. I feel like FIFA 20 was a step back for FIFA and EA as a whole. So, to keep the interest and fan base the next step has to be forward.” Ultimate Team and gameplay One complaint many players had with the last game, in relation to FUT, was the sheer amount of promos. These add loads of new special cards to the game, on a monthly basis. Just like many members of the community, Manny wants to see more of a balance here. “I would say it’s good that EA are trying to keep the content fresh,” the YouTuber said. “However I also agree with the fact there are too many promos because it seems like the overlook the actual issues in the game meanwhile just pumping out fresh cards to use in questionable gameplay. There are two sides to it, of course. It’s good to use different special cards that we may not have used but it also renders a lot of the regular cards pointless. A balance is definitely needed.” One of the competitions Ultimate Team players will be more than familiar with by now is FUT Champions. Weekend League happens, well, every weekend. Manny has noticed a shift in playstyle online over the last few years, though, and is hoping to see changes made to encourage more variety this time. What needs to change in FIFA 21? In an interview with Dexerto, he said: “The competitive aspect of FIFA has always been there. Way back since the GameBattles days on FIFA 09, now though EA have done it themselves and brought it to the forefront. “This has had a good impact in terms of being rewarded for playing games in Champs, rather than just doing Division Rivals and getting the same old rewards. On the flip side, it gives people more of a ‘I must do anything to win mentality’ which makes them play and adopt a boring style of play. I don’t know how they’re going do it but they need to find a way of re-engaging with the casuals and making FUT as whole more fun again. The game (FIFA 20) started off being really good and balanced and then all of a sudden deficiencies just began to pop out everywhere. The gameplay needs more attention and more realism. It should play in a way where there is a way to use A 6″5 player who hasn’t got pace just a well as a small pacey striker. The only stats that mattered in FIFA 20 were balance, agility and 5* weak foot. It got boring quickly because so many players were unusable.” The beta is now open, allowing chosen players to test out new features. On paper, things look to be optimistic for FIFA 21, although only time will tell for both Ultimate Team and gameplay. How many FIFA Points do Ultimate Team players need to buy? One of the biggest questions Ultimate Team players will be wondering at the start of the game is how many FIFA Points do they need to buy, right off the bat. Well, while Manny admitted this isn’t always a rewarding method of improvement, he did give us a ballpark figure to become competitive. “I think that you could spend a load of money on FIFA Points and not get the reward you deserve. I would say just enough to guarantee 100k coins then build your team from there and play games. If you want to be more competitive I think you’re talking 20,000 FIFA points and above.” To put that into perspective for players, using pricing from FIFA 20 as a guideline, that would be around £143.83 ($179.83) just for in-game purchases. If you pick up the Champions Edition, which costs £89.99 ($99.99), and add the cost of the recommended FIFA Points on top you’re looking at around a £230 ($270) investment altogether. That’s just to be competitive at the start as well. As time goes on you can expect that figure to rise and rise as more competitors invest. It means you’re spending more than the amount you paid for the game in add-ons very quickly, too. Hopefully, Manny’s wish list for FIFA 21 will reflect reality when the game rolls out on October 6. Unfortunately, FUT fans will no longer be able to add The Golden Boy to their squads, as EA has removed every Maradona item from the game as of March 19. EA removes Maradona from FIFA 22 The news first broke by FutSheriff on Twitter, and EA have now confirmed they have suspended Maradona’s items from FIFA 22 due to a “third party legal dispute,” presumably with the late footballer’s estate. 🚨EXCLUSIVE Diego Maradona will be SUSPENDED from Fifa 22 due to a third party legal dispute. His cards won’t be available in Packs, SBCs or Drafts anymore. — Fut Sheriff (@FutSheriff) March 19, 2022 Via an in-game message in FIFA 22, EA said: “Due to a third party legal dispute, we must suspend Diego Maradona from appearing in FIFA Ultimate Team Packs, future FUT content and the Soccer Aid World XI in EA SPORTS FIFA 22.” “As such, Diego Maradona ICON Items will no longer be made available in Packs, SBCs and FUT Draft,” the statement continued. “We share our fans’ disappointment and hope to bring one of football’s greatest icons back in the game at some point in the future.” Players who already own one of Maradona’s ICON cards will still be able to deploy him in matches, and he will still be available on the FUT market. However, his price has been fixed to prevent traders from profiting from the situation. It’s not known whether this will be permanent or temporary, but it’s a very good bet the items will be unavailable while the legal dispute is ongoing. Will Maradona be in FIFA 23? At this point, it’s impossible to say whether or not Maradona will be included in FIFA 23’s ICON list. If the legal dispute is resolved before the game comes out, it could happen. But if things drag on, he could be absent from the next title in the series. We have several months before FIFA 23 becomes the main focus for the community, so we’ll know soon if EA is able to resolve this dispute before then and include El Pelusa for players next time around.

Man City star Laporte teases Castro after packing him in FIFA 20 After opening a pack in FIFA Ultimate Team, Castro was disappointed to have got Man City center-back Aymeric Laporte instead of PSG star Kylian Mbappe – and Laporte made sure to make fun of the FIFA streamer. While most FIFA players would be happy with a UEFA Champions League Laporte, one of the best center-halves in the world both in and out of the game, Castro clearly has higher expectations. Celebrating his big pull after seeing the French flag pop up, the hugely popular FIFA streamer clearly thought he was getting Mbappe in his pack, a card worth millions of coins that could have greatly bolstered his game whether he used the player in his team or sold it for a massive profit. In the original clip, you see Castro start celebrating as soon as he realizes he’s getting a blue card – meaning it could be pretty special – and the volume only grows when the French flag appears on-screen and his mind goes to the best-case scenario, thinking he was about to have Mbappe slotting balls home for fun. Instead, as the “CB” lettering appears on screen and confirms that the World Cup winner will not be in his club, Castro looks gutted. His “Mbappe” screams die out, and are replaced by screams of “What the f**k,” as he asks “why it’s like that?” In an unexpected twist, though, Laporte retweeted the clip with a bunch of laughing emoji, before telling Castro “sorry for your loss bro.” It’s becoming more and more common to see famous sports stars engaging with the top streamers, with the two world’s colliding on a somewhat regular basis in recent years. Man City team up with European esports organization to join Gfinity’s Elite Series Reigning Premier League champions Manchester City have inked a partnership with Belgian based Epsilon eSports, teaming up for the Gfinity Elite Series 4. Man City are one of the top sports clubs in the world who have shown significant interest in esports, particularly FIFA, being one of the first Premier League clubs to recruit a professional FIFA player. Now though they are taking the next step, partnering up with an professional organization in Epsilon, and entering the Gfinity Elite Series, one of FIFA’s most prestigious league tournaments. Man City’s already established FIFA roster will combine with Epsilon’s to form half of their overall team, with the remaining players selected from the upcoming ‘Elite Draft’, before competition commences on October 26. The partnership comes closely after the recent announcement from the Premier League of the upcoming ‘ePremier League’, which will involve all 20 EPL teams, and is also organized by Gfinity. Perhaps Epsilon’s involvement with Man City will also include the management of the Club’s efforts in the ePremier League, when it begins in 2019. FUT, Career Mode, Pro Clubs, and all other game modes look to have received a serious rework with details being spilled by developers in mini reveals of each – ahead of its October 9 release date. Following the Ultimate Team showcase on August 10, where players saw a new trailer, a big change was stowed away in the thousands of words written inside the pitch notes. It could be a game-changer. One of the biggest frustrations has always been useless cards in packs. No doubt about it. FIFA 21 scraps Fitness and Training cards While FIFA 21 does not take all of those problems away, it will take a step in the right direction. As of August 2020, they confirmed Fitness and Training cards have been completely scrapped. In an official statement, the devs said: “Fitness items have been a light management element in Ultimate Team since the very beginning. The decay of players’ fitness was put in the game originally to encourage rotation in the squad and to simulate some of the management decisions that football squads have to consider. “However, we’ve evaluated these mechanics and have decided that it wasn’t creating the desired effect in rotation and players were spending time doing a management action that was frequently required and, ultimately, not very fun.” Players will start each match with full fitness, and you certainly won’t be getting them in packs anymore. Also, you definitely won’t need to spend thousands on these pesky light management cards any longer. EA have claimed this will be the most social Ultimate Team experience they have created to-date. Here’s everything you need to know. FUT Champions is the ultimate test for FIFA 22 FUT players. Over the course of 20 games, fans of the mode will enter with their best possible team, comprised of the game’s elite cards, and bid to win as many as possible. More wins means tastier packs and bigger bundles of coins. But to actually enter it, players need to successfully overcome the intense qualification process. This required a competitor to be victorious in 5 out of their 9 qualification matches. Given how bizarre the FIFA 22 transfer market has been already, players have had incredibly strong teams from the game’s launch. This has made qualifying a tough task as tricky, with fans taking on sweaty teams in every match. However, more casual players may now stand a better chance of entering FUT Champions due to one of EA’s decisions. FIFA 22 FUT changes: Qualification The official news comes from the FIFA Direct Communication page, and starting with FIFA 22 Ultimate Team Season 3, FUT Champions hopefuls will now have an extra game to aid with their qualification process — offering 10 in total now. Not only that, but instead of needing 24 points to qualify (5 wins, 4 defeats), players now only need 20 points. This subtle change could mean the world of difference for tons of players as it lowers the minimum win requirement to just 4 now, leaving more room to fail. It’s true that EA has tinkered with the FUT Champions reward system and tucked away the better rewards behind more wins, but more players will be able to qualify and add to the pool of competitors. Memphis Depay is a player who needs no introduction. The Dutch center-forward struggled to find form at Manchester United between 2015 and 2017, but he’s been stellar for Lyon ever since. Like many of his fellow professional players, the German seems to be a fan of FUT himself, generating a solid virtual lineup. It was clear to see that it was, in fact, Podolski seeing as he had a 99-rated custom pro player card of his own. Just like everyone else, professional footballers enjoy a few games of FIFA in their spare time. Many players with, and against, teammates on away day trips, but some go hard on the competitive side. They’ll dive into FIFA Ultimate Team’s FUT Champs mode and test themselves against the best of the best. Some fare better than others, with Liverpool’s Diogo Jota being the undisputed top dog. The Portuguese star has spoken about his love for FIFA in the past, dominated Premier League tournaments, and even gone 30-0 before too. But now, he’s gone one better as the #1 player on PlayStation. Jota, who is currently missing for Liverpool through injury, revealed the incredible feat on his Instagram story. “Just said I would play until I lose,” he joked, with his 30-0 record sitting there as a strong flex. As noted, going 30-0 is no easy feat – and doing it twice is impressive. But being able to rank above everyone else, at least for the time being, as the best player on your console is something else. The 24-year-old obviously has some help given that he has a 99-rated pro player card, and some icons, but he still gives in to the meta.
