Best England EURO 2020 team using FIFA 21 ratings: The Dexerto XI – Dexerto
Best England EURO 2020 team using FIFA 21 ratings: The Dexerto XI EA SPORTSGareth Southgate has some massive decisions to make about his England EURO 2020 squad, with a lot of competition in just about every position. Using FIFA 21 ratings, let’s see who EA SPORTS ranks as the country’s best players and whether or not they should be picked. EURO 2020 starts on June 11, 2021 after the competition was delayed. England’s group has been confirmed, as they will be facing off against Scotland, the Czech Republic, and the nation that knocked them out of the 2018 World Cup, Croatia. Before the competition kicks off, each head coach has to decide on a set squad of 23. Already, we have seen football pundits like Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville reveal their ideal Starting XI and have huge televised debates about selections in certain positions. On May 24, the manager has to confirm his entire team. What we’re going to do here is look at the best team on paper, based on FIFA 21 ratings, then go through each position to see where they’re maybe right and wrong. It’s a huge big debate pre-tournament and there have been so many changes in form during the course of the 2020/21 season, so let’s jump in and select our best England team – as of April 2021. Injured players were automatically excluded – such as Joe Gomez. England EURO 2020 team picked by FIFA 21 England EURO 2020 team: Big talking points Best Goalkeeper? Gary Neville has predicted Dean Henderson may get in the EURO 2020 team, but who deserves the spot? – Who plays right back? Alexander-Arnold, Walker, James or Trippier? – Who gets in midfield? Southgate has a wealth of options here, but FIFA 21’s suggestion of Dele Alli will fall on deaf ears. – What do you want from that forward three? There’s a load of in-form attackers for England, yet only three can make the cut. – Now, let’s take a look at which ones we would keep from the generated team above, as well as who should be dropped this Summer. Goalkeepers Candidates: Nick Pope – Jordan Pickford – Our Pick – Dean Henderson – The importance of an excellent goalkeeper at international level cannot be understated. Nobody wants to relive the error made by Rob Green from the 2010 World Cup, for example. This year, there are three solid contenders for the No.1 jersey. Pope may be the best-rated goalkeeper in FIFA 21, and have three more clean sheets than Pickford in the Premier League, but we’re backing the latter to be selected. Based on how comfortable the Toffees’ goalie is with the ball, and his range of passing, there’s an argument to be made that he would be better suited to the style of football. Not to mention, he’s certainly improved his form this season compared to the previous campaign. Read More: FIFA 21 RTTF Upgrade Tracker – As for Dean Henderson, now may be too early for the 24-year-old and on this stage, experience is very valuable. If he establishes himself as Manchester United’s main shot-stopper in the next 12 months, there will be a much stronger case here for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Defenders Candidates: Kyle Walker – Our Pick – Kieran Trippier – Trent Alexander-Arnold – Reece James – Tyrone Mings – Harry Maguire – Our Pick – John Stones – Our Pick – Conor Coady – Eric Dier – Luke Shaw – Our Pick – Ben Chilwell – The picks for England’s defence depend on the formation, really. In this instance, we are going to presume they will not use their system of three central defenders and two wing-backs. Instead, as they have done in WC Qualifiers, our picks will slot into a flat back four. All of the talk ahead of the EUROs has been about Alexander-Arnold, and for good reason. The 22-year-old has won the Champions League, Premier League and is considered by many as one of the best right-backs in the world. However, his defensive positioning and 1v1 defending is still an area of question. If England are to play a lot more pragmatically than Liverpool, Walker surely makes the cut. He’s a speedy and solid defender, with much more experience. Luke Shaw has enjoyed one of his best-ever seasons at Manchester United, and despite strong competition from Chelsea’s Chilwell, you can’t really look past him in current form. Then in central defence there are two standout players on the list – Maguire and Stones. The pair have really blossomed this year under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Pep Guardiola respectively. They also compliment each other quite well. Both able to bring the ball from the back, but Stones has the edge with his passing range and his partner should dominate the box for headers. Midfielders Candidates: Phil Foden – Our Pick – Jesse Lingard – James Maddison – Jack Grealish – Jordan Henderson – Our Pick – Declan Rice – Kalvin Phillips – James Ward-Prowse – Mason Mount – Our Pick – Jude Bellingham – The midfield is an interesting one. Some fans may argue England should stick with the tried and tested approach of two holding players to sure up the defence, though with the wealth of creativity at Southgate’s disposal, it would be ridiculous not to fit exciting players in the middle. Grealish, Maddison, Rice, and Ward-Prowse have been very impressive this season. Without a doubt, each of them deserve recognition for that and there will be times in the European Championship where they will slot in. However, if we’re talking about the best combination on paper, there needs to be balance. We’ve gone with a midfield three of Henderson (if fit), Mount, and Foden. There, they would have Henderson sit in the middle and dictate the tempo of the match. Mount is a box-to-box runner, so he’s a positive selection, and then Foden offers the dynamism Southgate’s side lacked so sorely back in 2018. It’s the most competitive area for England right now and it will be interesting to see how the lineup shapes up against Croatia, in that first fixture. Attackers Candidates: Harry Kane – Our Pick – Raheem Sterling – Marcus Rashford – Our Pick – Jadon Sancho – Our Pick – Dominic Calvert-Lewin – Mason Greenwood – Bukayo Saka – Ollie Watkins – Despite the excellent performances of Calvert-Lewin, Watkins, Greenwood, and Saka throughout the 2020/21 season, it may be a little too soon for those to break in. They do offer versatility from the bench and can play a wide variety of positions, though we can’t forget who they’re trying to replace in the team. Kane is arguably the most deadly finisher in England’s top flight, netting 19 goals and racking up 13 assists at the time of writing. He also has a massive 63% goal participation. As we’ve seen for Spurs this season, if he has speedy runners either side of him upfront, he’s as good a passer as he is a finisher. Now for the two playing off the sides. Without a doubt, Sterling is a top-class player, though his numbers are not quite where you would expect them to be this year. With just 13 goals in all competitions, compared to the 20 from Rashford, the latter certainly should edge it into the starting 11. The right side belongs to Sancho as well, firing in 12 goals for Borussia Dortmund and forming a deadly partnership with Erling Haaland in Germany. If he can turn provider just a few times in EURO 2020 for Kane, adding in Rashford’s goals too, there’s no doubt this could be a very lethal forward three. So – there you have it! That’s the England EURO 2020 Starting XI we’ve picked out and if it is to be accurate, a number of EA SPORTS’ suggestions would be overlooked this Summer. We would love to hear your thoughts about which players Southgate should pick. Tweet us @UltimateTeamUK and @FutWatch with your suggestions! Let’s see if we can build a consensus…

ePremier League announced by EA and The Premier League – Dexerto
ePremier League announced by EA and The Premier League Electronic Arts and The Premier League have announced the inaugural season of the ePremier League (ePL), to be operated and organized by Gfinity. The biggest news is that all 20 current Premier League clubs will be represented in the league, which means a new undertaking for many, considering that only a handful of them already have esports players. The ePL will begin in January 2019, starting with online qualifiers. It will last only three months, with the finals taking place on March 28-29, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports. Each ePremier League team will have two players, one from each console (PS4 and Xbox One), and competing in it will also earn points that directly feed into the season long Global Series for FIFA 19. The Managing Director of the Premier League, Richard Masters, explained that “this new esports competition will provide our clubs with an exciting opportunity to engage” with their fans who are also passionate about FIFA. For EA, it is massive boost to their esports ambitions, with the financial backing of the Premier League, but also the appeal to non-esports fans who may be more intrigued given the familiar names of all 20 Premier League clubs. Todd Sitrin, GM of EA’s competitive gaming division, explained that the ePL will push FIFA esports to “unprecedented heights”, by using traditional sports to “accelerate” the growth of esports. “Through the ePL, this partnership carves a critical path forward in expanding competition not only for players but for the hundreds of millions watching Premier League games who now can support their club on the virtual and the traditional pitch.” Registration for the ePL will open on December 3, and players will need to be registered for the FIFA 19 Global Series by October 31.

eMLS Cup 2021 preview: The Favorite, One to Watch & Dark Horse – Dexerto
eMLS Cup 2021 preview: The Favorite, One to Watch & Dark Horse eMLS The 2021 field for eMLS Cup is stacked with exciting talents and former champions, but who will come out on top? We’ve picked three players you simply can’t ignore when it kicks off on March 20. A dozen of North America’s best FIFA 21 players will square off in the hopes of claiming the final bit of glory of the eMLS season as eMLS Cup 2021 is up for grabs. The final spot on the season calendar offers up a $40,000, an impressive gold trophy, and immortality in the eMLS history books. The bracket is littered with past champions and hungry upstarts, each as talented as the other. But, who is the favorite destined to win it all? Who is the one you need to keep an eye on? And who could slip under the radar but still knock off the big dogs? Well, we’ve picked three players you need to be watching this weekend. Our Favorite: Didychrislito Despite finishing fourth in the eMLS regular season, Chris ‘Didychrislito’ Holly is arguably in the best form of his life. The New York City FC representative has bagged wins in both eMLS League Series One and Series Two finals, dispatching everyone in his path with relative ease. In the Series Two finals, he only conceded four goals prior to the grand finals while scoring 15 of his own. The grand final wasn’t as easy, as DC United’s KingCJO proved to be a tough nut to crack, but Chris ultimately came out on top with a 5-4 victory. Read More: How to enter eMLS Cup giveaway – Winning eMLS Cup 2021 would be the crowning achievement of the year for the NYC FC man, and with his attacking prowess, it’s hard to see past him completing his own personal treble in dominant fashion. He’s certainly our favorite to take the crown from defending champion George Adamou, who represents New York Red Bulls. Hear more about his story below. “”In League Series 1, I came expecting to win. I always want to win the #eMLS Cups”” ~ @didychrislito (@nycfc)@pringles pic.twitter.com/e9vU7U6ZZA — 🎮 Major League Soccer | #eMLS (@eMLS) March 3, 2021 One to watch: xbLeU Austin FC’s John ‘xbLeU’ Garcia finished atop the eMLS regular-season standings, though it’s tournament play that has been his downfall. The 25-year-old finished the regular season with a whopping positive 45 goal difference, but he’s failed to make it happen when it matters most. Each time he’s stepped into bracket play, he’s failed to go further than the semi-finals, losing in heavy defeats to Didychrislito each time. He is, though, a force to be reckoned with. As Series Two showed, Austin FC’s pro can cut through defenses with stunning through balls, but he can just as easily shop on the other end, too. John will have a chance if he can break his semi-finals hoodoo. Hear more about his story below. “I think it’s really exciting to be a part of @austinfc’s debut year. It’s also mines, so I’m hoping they both go very well.” ~@xbleu7 @Pringles pic.twitter.com/BJBY1QuV2J — 🎮 Major League Soccer | #eMLS (@eMLS) January 16, 2021 The Dark Horse: Doolsta Longtime eMLS fans know Cormac ‘Doolsta’ Dooley’s talent – he won eMLS Cup 2019 after all – but he’s a dark horse this year. Why? Well, he’s got to overcome two of the best in the game before even getting to the semi-finals. If the Irish star, who is representing Nashville SC this time around, can get past Chicago Fire’s Kid M3Mito in the relegation round, he’d move on to play reigning champion G_Adamou. It’s a gauntlet, to say the very least. Though, if he does overcome it, he’ll be riding a wave of momentum that could propel him to glory. Should a final be reached, Dooley will be able to use that winning experience of two years ago to help, but it’s a tough road to walk before he even gets close. That’s why we’ve named him the dark horse. Hear more about his story below. “”I won #eMLS League Series 1, 2, and the Cup. I was traveling all around the world playing #FIFA events. It was pretty much a no brainer. I had to stick with it, but it was tough to give up on that dream [of playing soccer]”” ~ @doolsta (@nashvillesc)@pringles pic.twitter.com/xUUu0uLMJ2 — 🎮 Major League Soccer | #eMLS (@eMLS) February 24, 2021 All three players will be in action during eMLS Cup’s later stages, given they’ve already qualified thanks to their regular season performances. They didn’t have to compete in the Last Chance Qualifier. Their games will begin on Saturday, March 20, and you can follow along with all the action through our dedicated hub, here and across social media – @UltimateTeamUK, @FutWatch, @eMLS.

Easy FIFA 22 corner exploit lets players score unstoppable goals every time – Dexerto
Easy FIFA 22 corner exploit lets players score unstoppable goals every time EA SPORTSCorners in FIFA 22 can be tough to score from, even the most prolific target men can struggle to convert from set-pieces. Luckily, there is an easy exploit to make you formidable from corners. Here’s how to do it. FIFA 22 Ultimate Team players are always looking for ways to get the upper hand on their opponents, be it in FUT Champions or Division Rivals. This could mean a change of formation or a tweak to their squad’s tactics. Sometimes, it also means coming up with ways to catch the opposing player out from set pieces, especially corners. FIFA 22 has plenty of options to come up with corner routines, but one in particular is becoming an absolute must-know for elite players. This exploit is really easy to pull once you know how to do it, and it is almost impossible to the rival squad to defend. If you’ve come up against it online and are wondering how it’s done – look no further. How to perform FIFA 22 corner glitch Here’s an easy step-by-step guide on to do the corner glitch in FIFA 22 Ultimate team: Before a game, adjust your corner Custom Tactics to the lowest setting – Win yourself a corner – Call a player short and wait for them to get as close as possible – You will notice another player lingering around the corner of the box – Power up using the pass button and aim for the free man – Take a touch and cross the ball to the back post – You can also achieve the exact same outcome by passing to the player you called short and then using them to reach the free man on the edge of the box. In doing this, you’ll notice that one of your taller players, like a center-back or a big striker, will have a free header at goal. It isn’t quite a guaranteed goal every time, but it is certainly far more likely than simply putting the ball in the mixer straight away. By following the steps we outlined above, you’ll notice that you play a perfectly times ball into the box that you players will win more often than not. Something about reducing the number of players who go up for the corner, and then dragging another player towards the corner, appears to make it easy to overload the back post. The key to performing this glitch is timing, which is why we urge players to take their time delivering the ball into the box. If you go too early, taller players won’t have time to get the run on their markers, meaning it’s far easy for defenders to clear the ball. AI defenders automatically position themselves during each corner. Thanks to this, even if your opponent knows it’s coming, there is very little they can do to prevent it. Read More: Five things we want from FIFA in 2022 – It may take a few attempts to master, but once you do, you’ll find yourself bagging from corners in every match you play. There is a possibility that the corner glitch will be patched by EA SPORTS in a future update, as it clearly makes the set-piece more overpowered than intended. However, until then, players can celebrate winning a corner like it’s a penalty. EA under fire after leaking personal info of FIFA players and personalities [UPDATED] – Dexerto
EA under fire after leaking personal info of FIFA players and personalities [UPDATED] FIFAElectronic Arts have come under fire for accidentally leaking the personal information of thousands of FIFA players, pros and streamers. UPDATE: Oct 3 at 10:25 PST EA has responded to the “potential issue” affecting their registration page, and has taken down the site while they investigate the cause of the problem. We’re aware of a potential issue affecting the registration page for the EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Global Series that went live earlier today. We take these matters seriously, and we immediately took down the page while we investigate the matter. We’ll share updates as soon as possible. — EA SPORTS FIFA (@EASPORTSFIFA) October 3, 2019 While the company looks into the matter, they asked for the community to report any “potential security issues in EA’s games and services to secure@ea.com. Original story as follows… On Thursday, October 3, EA Sports announced this season’s FIFA Global Series – the competitive circuit that leads players to the FIFA eWorld Cup. A link was provided to allow players to register for qualification, and this is where the problems started. Before long, it became clear that EA was having some serious issues with registration, as players found they were already being provided with login information – and not their own. As evidenced in the tweet below, when players tried to register on the site, they were instead given registration information of players who had already registered – including some notable names in the community. “My friend got a big pull in the Data Breach pack, Hashtag’s own Algerian Arrow, @YaniOurabah. We’ll send you a birthday card. What a mess.” My friend got a big pull in the Data Breach pack, Hashtag’s own Algerian Arrow, @YaniOurabah. We’ll send you a birthday card. What a mess. pic.twitter.com/IYMT1ieq4g — George Hughes (@GeorgeHughes) October 3, 2019 A number of high profile pros and community members were affected by the leak, including professional FIFA player for Ajax, Joey ‘Joey’ Calabro. Coincidentally, his details were allegedly shown to fellow pro Bruno, a Brazilian player who represents SPQR. It appears registration is no longer available on the website, as EA is working to address the issue. A number of notable players and personalities spoke out about the issue, dismayed that it could even happen. Kurt “Kurt0411” Fenech was very direct in his feelings about EA and the accident. Meanwhile, FIFA YouTuber Reev simply said “Yikes” before making a joke of the situation, saying it was “probably Jeff on live chat who came up with the idea to leak everyone’s details”. Big yikes from EA. I bet it was Jeff on live chat who came up with the idea to leak everyone’s details. He’s already given imposters my details once or twice before. — Reev (@TheReevHD) October 3, 2019 EA has had a strained relationship with its consumers in recent years – most notably with the release of Star Wars Battlefront II, in which they managed to write the most downvoted comment in Reddit history when addressing microtransactions and the difficulty of unlocking certain characters. Hopefully, this issue will be sorted quickly and measures will be taken to prevent another data breach occurring in the future.

EA won’t remove FUT packs from FIFA 23 because players “love” them EA SportsEA SPORTS have claimed that FIFA players “love” Ultimate Team’s pack and microtransaction system, confirming that they will return in FIFA 23, which is set to drop on 30 September 2022. FIFA Ultimate Team’s pack system has been increasingly controversial since its initial implementation over a decade ago. Where players could originally buy packs for straight money, that quickly changed to FIFA Points and other changes – like price ranges – clamped down massively on coin selling and other ways to accumulate in-game coins. We’re rapidly approaching the launch of FIFA 23, with new features like FUT Moments, better stadium customization, and a chemistry overhaul all on the cards for Ultimate Team. EA have confirmed, though, that packs and microtransactions will be staying more or less the same. EA claim players “love” FIFA Ultimate Team packs and microtransactions An EA statement to Eurogamer said: “We wholeheartedly believe that Ultimate Team and FUT Packs, which have been part of the game for more than a decade, are a part of FIFA that players love – fans love that the game reflects the real-world excitement and strategy of building and managing a squad. Giving players the choice to spend if they want to is fair.” It went on to explain that spending in FIFA is “entirely optional” and not encouraged: “FUT Packs work in just the same way whether they are paid for or earned, and most players don’t spend in-game at all. For example, nine out of ten FUT Packs opened in FIFA 22 were earned.” The EA statements comes as loot boxes in video games continue to acquire growing backlash. Many feel that promoting packs to players – especially given the youth of FIFA’s audience – is problematic and some governments have agreed. While the UK Government recently stopped short of banning them, they said they “expect games companies and platforms to improve protections for children, young people and adults, and for tangible results to begin to be seen in the near future.” Other nations, like Belgium and the Netherlands, have been similarly critical of their position in Ultimate Team. Away from the gambling issues, many players also believe they make FIFA ‘pay-to-win’, with players willing to invest money naturally accumulating better cards and more coins. However, EA are clearly adamant that the lucrative system improves FIFA so, going into FIFA 23, expect very little to change in terms of prices, bonus packs, and player probabilities.

EA to lose Diego Maradona from FIFA 22 ICON roster after messy legal dispute – Dexerto
EA to lose Diego Maradona from FIFA 22 ICON roster after messy legal dispute EA SPORTSEA SPORTS are set to lose Diego Maradona as an ICON card in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, after the football franchise publishers came out second best in a messy rights dispute over the Argentinian legend’s likeness. Diego Maradona has been in FIFA’s Icon roster — once “Legends” cards — since 2018, celebrating the football star’s glittering career in three rare collectibles. According to Argentinian news site Infobae (via Eurogamer), that is set to come to an end after a judge recognized the trademark claims on Maradona and his likeness by lawyer Matias Morla. They won the suit over Maradona’s manager Stefano Ceci, who could not produce relevant legal documents. Morla apparently seized control of the Maradona brand last August and has been consolidating rights around his name, brand, and image since then. Ceci’s alleged rights to his images were one of the last dominoes to fall. The issue for EA SPORTS arises due to their agreement with Stefano Ceci, which is now expected to be voided by the Morla estate, removing Maradona from FIFA. Right now, two of Diego Maradona’s ICON cards are still available in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, while all three of his FUT ICON versions can be purchased in FIFA 21’s playlists. The Argentinian’s cards are some of the best in the competitive FUT game mode, and his 95-rated CAM card — the best on the market for the former Napoli champion — costs players more than two million coins. Players would lose these cards if FIFA 22 withdraws his rights. Federal judge Marceloa Gota told EA SPORTS that they must “immediately cease the use of indicated brands by whatever means they are carrying out.” That includes “using images on all platforms, and [titles] including FIFA 21, FIFA Ultimate Team, FIFA Street, and FIFA World Class Soccer.” Also mentioned in the court’s cease-and-desist order is Football Manager, which often allows fans to sign past franchise players via DLC updates. Following Maradona’s death last year, EA SPORTS held a celebration for the Argentinian legend in their then-current title, FIFA 21. They added a Maradona tifo and Argentinian national team kits to the FUT clubs of all active players “to respectfully honor and celebrate the life of a true icon.” EA has yet to publicly comment on the possible Maradona removal.

EA SPORTS unveils first look at FIFA 21 for PS5 & Xbox Series X EA SPORTSEA SPORTS has officially unveiled FIFA 21, and given fans of the long-standing football sim franchise a scintillating first-look at what the 2020 installment will look like when it arrives on next-generation consoles later this year. In the “Feel Next Level” trailer, revealed by the FIFA publishers during the EA Play Live 2020 event on June 18, Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappé is seen standing over the penalty spot at Le Parc des Princes. He’s preparing to shoot. The whole stadium is lit up, despite it being night time. PSG is facing off against English champions-elect Liverpool. There’s rain on the camera, and beads of sweat rolling down a realistic-looking Mbappé’s face. This is what FIFA 21 will look like on next-generation consoles like the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X. We may not have been treated to proper in-game footage, but EA made sure to slap “game engine footage” on the trailer. Electronic Arts are going all out on the generational switch consoles will be going through this year, it seems. FIFA 21 is expected to release on October 9, and it’s going to be huge. Don’t just let us tell you though — take a look for yourself: First look at #FIFA21 and #Madden21 on next-gen consoles! #EAPlay — Dexerto Sports (@DexertoFC) June 18, 2020 EA reveals first-look at FIFA 21 next-gen engine There’s plenty on offer in the EA Play trailer. It also includes a handful of shots dedicated to EA NFL franchise Madden. Global powerhouses like, Liverpool, Dortmund, Atlético Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and more are also featured. On top of the players and clubs, the trailer shows off FIFA’s “new deferred lighting system”. EA believes this should create “ultra-realistic football experiences” and “enhance the game in every part of the stadium.” The FIFA publishers also confirmed their 2020 release would overhaul player bodies for both of their franchises. These “reimagined” core files should take each of the in-game avatars to “a whole new level of realism,” the devs said. Load times, controller haptics, match AI set for upgrades Graphics aren’t the only thing EA has promised to “take to the next level” when their sports titles arrive on PS5 and XSX either. The generational switch will also bring “blazing fast load times” and “immersive controller haptics,” EA revealed. Finally, FIFA 21 will allegedly turn the humanization of its AI players all the way up to eleven, the publishers said in their post-trailer wrap. “From adjusting shin pads in the 89th minute to screaming for passes, player humanization unlocks the most authentic behaviours ever seen in sports games. This lets you feel all the emotion of football at the highest level,” they said. FIFA 21 is already available to preorder for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC here. EA SPORTS u-turns on broken FIFA 22 SBC with El Sharaawy changes – Dexerto
EA SPORTS u-turns on broken FIFA 22 SBC with El Sharaawy changes FIFA 22 has been riddled with errors and in the latest blunder, EA released a Shapeshifters Stephen El Shaarary SBC card with incorrect stats. The FIFA Direct Communication Twitter account has been very active this year, as FIFA 22 players have had to deal with several mistakes by the FIFA EA Sports team. Most Recently, A Year in Review Player Pick SBC unintentionally included the Fantasy FUT Christen Eriksen item. One week earlier, players received compensation after the EFIGS TOTS Upgrade SBC gave out incorrect rewards. This time around, A Stephen El Shaarawy player item was released with incorrect stats and disgruntled players voiced their displeasure on Reddit. FIFA 22 fans slam incorrect Shapeshifters El Shaarawy SBC Shapeshifters is a fan favorite yearly FIFA promo that moves players into new positions with upgraded stats. Some examples include striker cards for Marcelo and Sergio Ramos and a right-winger card for Cristiano Ronaldo. The EA Sports communication team tweeted an update regarding the issue. On Friday, the Shapeshifters Stephan El Shaarawy Player Item was released with incorrect Physicality, Agility, Jumping, Strength, and Curve Attributes. They have been updated in-game. — EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) June 27, 2022 The upgraded Stephen El Shaarawy card will have two more agility points, 11 more jumping points, three additional strength points, and one more curve attribute point. A Reddit user started a thread discussing EA Sports releasing the wrong Stephen El Shaarary player item. One Reddit user commented, “can’t think of a game where they have made this many mistakes.” Another user added, “this is happening pretty often now.” Despite the backlash, El Shaarawy cards are usually fantastic in-game and this player item shapes up to be a deadly central attacking option. El Shaarawy is silky on the ball in FIFA and his dribbling is perfect for breaking down defenders in the attacking third. The Roma winger previously received an 86 overall RTTF player item that was extremely popular. Make sure to complete the SBC yourself and give the player item a try. Also, keep an eye on all of our FIFA 23 coverage leading up to the new title.

EA SPORTS unveil FIFA 21 Ultimate Team next-gen plans – Dexerto
EA SPORTS unveil FIFA 21 Ultimate Team next-gen plans Graphics: EA SPORTSEA SPORTS have laid out their plans for FIFA 21 Ultimate Team’s move to next-gen which will include cross-gen markets for Xbox Series X and PS5, but not cross-gen or cross-platform play. Each year, when the build-up to the next FIFA game starts to rumble on, fans get excited by pretty much everything that EA unveils. This year, with FIFA 21, things are a little different because of the Xbox Series X and PS5. The game will initially launch on October 9 for Xbox One and PS4, with the next-gen consoles not expected to launch until the following month. That switch has got FIFA fans wondering about a number of things. Most notable, their questions have revolved around Ultimate Team and whether or not they’ll have to start from scratch when the new consoles arrive. Though, EA has finally given us some insight. Will FIFA 21 Ultimate Team have cross-progression? Following their Ultimate Team trailer reveal on August 10, the FIFA devs held a Q and A session on their direct communications Twitter account. Quick off the bat, they announced that yes, just like with FIFA 14 and the move from Xbox 360 and PS3 to Xbox One and PS4, your progression will carry over. So, you won’t have to worry about cards or coins disappearing into thin air and having all your progression lost. You just need to make sure that your EA SPORTS account is up to date and linked to the platform of your choosing. Yes, just not at the same time. 👍 https://t.co/ysU6LC523h — EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) August 10, 2020 Is FIFA 21’s transfer market cross-gen? As for a potential cross-gen transfer market, fans have opinions both ways about how they could go. EA have now confirmed that, yes, this will be a thing. So, any cards listed on Xbox One or PS4 will be available for purchase for players on Xbox Series X and PS5. Will this affect the prices? We’ll just have to wait and see. Will FIFA 21 matches be cross-gen on PS5 & Xbox Series X? One thing that certainly won’t be cross-gen, though, is the gameplay. The devs have confirmed that FIFA 21 Ultimate Team matches will only be played on the same gen. So, if you own a PS5 and you try to play a friend on PS4, that can’t happen. You’d either have to step down to PS4 or they’d have to make the switch up to PS5. This is unlikely to change later down the line either. You won’t be able to play across console generations or cross-play in #FIFA21. However, you will be able to carry over your FUT progression from PS4 to PS5 and Xbox 1 to Xbox Series X. https://t.co/mUqU3zcAud — EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) August 10, 2020 Add in the fact that EA’s dual entitlement program will allow players to make the next-gen switch without having to buy another copy of FIFA 21, and all the big questions are answered about next-gen. As the devs continue to rattle out their reveals of new information, be sure to keep your eyes peeled to @UltimateTeamUK for the latest news and updates.

EA SPORTS settle on new FIFA name and it’s a familiar one – Dexerto
EA SPORTS settle on new FIFA name and it’s a familiar one EA SPORTSEA SPORTS has apparently settled on a new name for the FIFA series, and it’s one that might be familiar to long-time fans of the franchise. Ever since its inception in 1994, EA SPORTS’ iconic football franchise has gone by the name FIFA as they’ve been able to share the name with the sport’s international governing body. The two have become synonymous together, and the thought of EA dropping the FIFA name over the years had been laughed off. Though, back in October, all signs started to point towards a proper split between the pair. Reports claimed that FIFA wanted EA to stump up $2.5 billion dollars to keep the brand deal going, with the publishers reportedly looking to acquire more rights. As a result, EA confirmed that they were considering renaming their iconic franchise to something different and dropping the FIFA name. EA SPORTS reportedly settle on new FIFA name Now, according to journalist Jeff Grubb, it looks as if they’ve settled on a new name for the series, and it’s one that’s been spotted in trademark filings before. Read More: 6 new features FIFA 23 needs to add – “EA Sports Football Club, EA Sports FC, that’s the name of the game,” Grubb said on his Giant Bomb show Grubbsnax. “I saw trademarks for it, I thought that could be just a feature like an online mode. I asked around about it… that’s it, that’s the name.” The EA FC tag should be instantly recognizable to long-time fans of the FIFA Franchise, given it has been used before. The name was used back in FIFA 15 as EA introduced a social hub to the game, so you could see your friends’ activity. It was even used in the name for the in-game catalog. While EA look determined to drop the FIFA name, it’s likely that the link between the two will stay in some way, given how hard it’ll be for long-time fans to stop using the name. There isn’t a set point for which EA will introduce the new name, and with leaks claiming that FIFA 23 will feature a World Cup mode, they would have to use the FIFA branding there. So, it could be 2024 before the franchise has a new name.

EA SPORTS reveals FIFA 21 Ones to Watch players and ICON details – Dexerto
EA SPORTS reveals FIFA 21 Ones to Watch players and ICON details EA SportsEA SPORTS has officially come out with the new FIFA 21 Ones to Watch cards coming to Ultimate Team when the game releases on October 9, along with more details on ICON SBCs. Teams and players across the world are enjoying the return of football with the 2020/21, and it’s been no surprise to see clubs looking to add new players to their squads. With the transfer market now heading towards a close, the business clubs have done looks set to impact which Ones to Watch cards FIFA 21 will include. These cards are some of the most-wanted by players, as they represent some of the biggest, and most interesting, moves of the transfer window and if you do get one, they’ll update whenever the player gets an upgrade in something like a TOTW, possibly making them viable all season long. There are now nine One to Watch cards confirmed for FIFA 21, with Liverpool’s Thiago and Inter Milan’s Achraf Hakimi making the grade. Hakimi was actually one of the players we predicted could be seen as a new OTW for FIFA 21, but Martin Ødegaard managed to slip under the radar, coming as a relative surprise. Two full teams of OTW players will be revealed and released when FIFA 21 drops. The first will be dropped on October 9, while the second is revealed on October 14 and released on October 16. Below is a full list of the 9 confirmed OTW players, that will feature in the first team: Kai Havertz – Chelsea (85) – Allan – Everton (83) – Nathan Ake – Man City (79) – Timo Werner – Chelsea (85) – Hakim Ziyech – Chelsea (85) – Thiago – Liverpool (85) – Gareth Bale – Tottenham Hotspur (83) – Martin Ødegaard – Real Madrid (83) – Achraf Hakimi – Inter Milan (83) – As you can see, seven of the nine OTW cards are from the Premier League, so expect to see some additions from other leagues. Along with the new OTW info, EA also clarified how ICON cards will be implemented in FIFA 21. As in years past, there will be four levels of ICON cards to collect: Base being the most common, Mid, Prime, and Moment as the rarest and most powerful. ICON SBCs will also be making a return, with the first ones being introduced from late November onwards. They will be available longer than regular Squad Building Challenges, but not permanently. This is similar to FIFA 20, where ICON SBCs were almost ever present in Ultimate Team. There’s 100 ICONs, the full list shown in the image above. As with past years, expect the ICON SBCs to be seriously tough, especially those relating to the rarer cards. 88 OVR squads at the ready. § After an ICON SBC expires, it may be re-released at a later date, so don’t worry too much if you miss out on a certain player. As always, stick with us on Twitter @UltimateTeamUK for all the latest FIFA 21 news and updates.

EA SPORTS set to sponsor La Liga ahead of EA FC launch in 2023 – Dexerto
EA SPORTS set to sponsor La Liga ahead of EA FC launch in 2023 Graphics: EA SPORTSEA SPORTS is becoming the new main sponsor of La Liga, and the deal is set to start just in time for the launch of EA FC in 2023. For the first time in 30 years, EA SPORTS’ FIFA franchise is undergoing a bit of a drastic overhaul. The upcoming release of FIFA 23 will be the final game to don the FIFA name as EA is ending its agreement with Football’s governing body. If you’ve been living under a rock, don’t worry, that doesn’t mean that the marquee football games will be going away. Instead, EA will release the games with a brand-new name – EA SPORTS FC – and they’ve already secured plenty of licenses to keep the authentic feel of things. While players will likely keep the connotations between FIFA and EA SPORTS FC once EA launches its new game next year, the game developers and publishers will be keen to make sure everyone knows the new name. And, as such, they’re making a bit of a splash in the football sponsorship world. EA SPORTS set to sponsor La Liga from 2023/24 season That’s right, according to a report from MARCA, EA SPORTS will become the new primary sponsor of La Liga for the 2023/24 season in a blockbuster deal. As per the Spanish newspaper’s report, EA SPORTS will replace Santander and take over the naming rights of the league, with a five-year deal reported to be in the region of $205 million. EA will also reportedly work with La Liga on content for fans, but there are no concrete details on what that will mean for the game. We suspect things like localized game covers, which we’ve seen in previous years, may make a return on that front, as well as every La Liga stadium being available in-game. As noted, La Liga is also one of the leagues that EA have secured authenticity rights for when they pivot to EA SPORTS FC, so we’ll see the in-game presentation and other aspects of that remain for the foreseeable future. It’ll be interesting to see just how much further EA goes with sponsorships ahead of the significant name change, but we’ll just have to wait and see what else happens in the next 12 months.

EA SPORTS reveal TOTW Moments plan after FIFA 20 TOTSSF launch – Dexerto
EA SPORTS reveal TOTW Moments plan after FIFA 20 TOTSSF launch EA SPORTSTeam of the Weeks Moments has proven to be a popular addition to FIFA 20 Ultimate Team but the launch of TOTSSF has seen it rotated out. Here’s when it could be back. As a substitute for no actual football being played, EA SPORTS introduced Team of the Week moments in the place of the usual Team of the Week. As a result, FIFA fans had a chance to get their hands on some classic TOTW cards that had received a nice little added boost. Though, with the launch of Team of the Season So Far – EA’s replacement for the usual end-of-season Team of the Season promo – it looks as if Team of the Weeks Moments are also coming to end. However, there appears to be a catch on things. Where is Team of the Week Moments 7 | TOTW 33? In their content roadmap for Team of the Season So Far – or TOTSSF – the developers noted that there would be changes to the weekly moments cards – but you’d have had to look for it to see what they said. EA noted at the very end of their roadmap that once the seventh TOTW Moments squad moves out of packs on Wednesday 29 April at 10 a.m. PST, FIFA will place TOTW Moments on hold during the Team of the Season So Far promo. This means that the Team of the Week will no longer be announced at the usual time of 3 pm on a Wednesday afternoon, before going into packs at 6 pm. Though, that could change if football makes it return throughout the world. With that looking increasingly unlikely – seeing as the French Ligue 1 and Dutch Eredivisie have canceled the remainder of their seasons – Team of the Week Moments is probably not making a return to FIFA 20. Though, EA says it’s on hold until June 10 anyway. EA has announced that the usual TOTW cards you’d find in FUT Champs Weekend League rewards will be replaced by TOTSSF cards depending on what rank you end up in.

EA SPORTS reveals changes to improve FIFA 20 servers – Dexerto
EA SPORTS reveals changes to improve FIFA 20 servers Graphics: EA SPORTSEA SPORTS have made a few adjustments to the FIFA 20 servers that should make brief moments of lag slightly less annoying moving forward. The EA servers are constantly under scrutiny from FIFA players who have been scorned by a disconnect, a bit of lag, or just being unable to connect when there’s a flash sale on in the pack store. They have been a constant bugbear for years, and while EA have made strides to improve them – even adding new servers around the world – problems still loom large. However, the FIFA devs have made a new change that should spell the end of some problems where your frame rate is affected by short spikes of lag. In their July 30 update, the developers noted that they’ve made a few tweaks. Though, it might not be the sweeping changes that some fans want. Made an adjustment intended to improve the online performance in a match that is being impacted by frequent network jitter,” part of the new patch notes reads. The change is further explained, with the solution that it is supposed to provide is noted as well. “During an online match with frequent network jitter, this change is intended to help hold a steady frame-rate and reduce visual stutters,” EA added. Just by reading the explanation, experienced FIFA players will be able to cast their minds back to a time where a game has been lagging ever so slightly and stutters end up ruining an attacking move. Read More: 6 features FIFA 21 Ultimate Team needs to add Hopefully, this change will put an end to that, though, we’ll just have to wait and see what happened when players flood the servers in order to play the upcoming round of FUT Champs Weekend League. Make sure to let us know if you see any benefits from the change by tweeting us @UltimateTeamUK.

EA SPORTS reveal FUT Champs Red Pick rewards ahead of TOTW return EA SPORTSEA SPORTS have confirmed what promo will be used for the FUT Champs red player picks when the June 12-14 session of Weekend League comes to an end ahead of the return of Team of the Week. Ever since it was introduced back in FIFA 17, Weekend League has been the best way for players to prove how good they are against some of the best players around. Only the best of the best manage to go 30-0, sitting atop the leaderboard when the weekend comes to an end. Though, everyone who gets involved – no matter their win-loss records – gets some rewards. The better you do, the better the rewards are, with more red player picks being the pinnacle. With the rewards in flux as FIFA is currently between promos, EA has moved to confirm where the next rewards will come from. FUT Champs Weekend League Red Picks for June 18 With the developers confirming that the usual Team of the Week promo will return starting on June 24, the final Weekend League before its return will use the Ultimate Team of the Season So Far as its red player picks. EA SPORTS responds to Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s FIFA 21 licensing threats – Dexerto
EA SPORTS responds to Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s FIFA 21 licensing threats EA SPORTSThe developers of FIFA 21, EA SPORTS, has responded to threats by AC Milan star Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his agent to sue the publisher over the licensing of his “likeness.” EA claims that “it’s not their fight,” saying FIFPro should step in. Zlatan might be sitting pretty on top of the Serie A with AC Milan, netting 10 goals in six games to help the Rossoneri remain undefeated, however, he was seeing red at EA using his “likeness” in FIFA 21. The Swedish star, who has featured in numerous FIFA titles, challenged EA over the rights to use his image. He claimed EA did not seek his permission, and because he wasn’t a member of FIFPro, he wasn’t covered by their license. Who gave FIFA EA Sport permission to use my name and face? @FIFPro? I’m not aware to be a member of Fifpro and if I am I was put there without any real knowledge through some weird manouver. And for sure I never allowed @FIFAcom or Fifpro to make money using me— Zlatan Ibrahimović (@Ibra_official) November 23, 2020 “Who gave FIFA EA Sports permission to use my name and face? I’m not aware to be a member of FIFpro and if I am I was put there without any real knowledge through some weird maneuver. And for sure I never allowed FIFA.com or FIFPro to make money using me,” he said. “Somebody is making profit on my name and face without any agreement all these years. Time to investigate,” he adds in a follow-up. Ibrahimovic’s stance was backed by his agent Mino Raiola, who told British paper The Telegraph that over 300 players were considering legal action. However, EA has responded to Zlatan’s claims, stating the fight isn’t meant to be fought with the developer, but with FIFPro themselves. “The licensing arguments being played out in social media for effect are not an issue for EA or EA Sports. This is between FIFPro, the players within their association, and their representatives. FIFPro has told us this is their issue, and they’re handling it — we expect a statement to that effect imminently,” the developers told Forbes. “This isn’t our fight. This isn’t about EA Sports or video games, players or fans. It’s a battle between football agents and FIFPro.” Read more: FIFA 21 Team of the Week 9 live – EA also stated they had worked with Raiola to help market FIFA 21 using Erling Haaland, one of his clients. EA also said they have “enjoyed a great working relationship” with Ibrahimovic, AC Milan signed an exclusive agreement with EA SPORTS in 2020 to allow the developers to use accurate face scans for the entire team. Other partner clubs, such as Real Madrid and Inter Milan, are also part of this agreement. Ibrahimovic is yet to respond to EA’s statement.

EA SPORTS reveal 10 secret FIFA 20 tips you might not know – Dexerto
EA SPORTS reveal 10 secret FIFA 20 tips you might not know EA SPORTSEA SPORTS have revealed a whole list of really useful FIFA 20 control tips and tactical details right in time for the FUT Weekend League. The game’s developers have been adding new content to Ultimate Team, Career and other modes since their latest installment to the FIFA series released in October, although there are a few features in-game that might give you an upper hand. Although, not everybody appears to know about some of them. Tweaks have been made to formations, player instructions, team tactics and more in recent years, so let’s take a look at the 10 things not all FIFA 20 players will know about. Pro players look away now. On February 13, the official FIFA Direct Communication Twitter account decided to drop a shed load of information in a huge thread, with tips ranging from sprinting techniques to goalkeeper instructions. So, let’s take a look at them and how they all work. FIFA 20 top tips from EA SPORTS 1. Hug sideline Using the ‘Hug Sideline’ feature in FIFA 20 does not impact attacking midfielders (CAM) in the narrow 4-2-3-1 or 4-2-2-2 formations. Instead, only impacting players in the LM, RM, LW, RW positions. 2. Strafe Dribble For those who aren’t aware already, EA wanted to point out that players can sprint exit out of the Strafe Dribble. That exit can be made faster, too, with players who have high agility, balance and dribbling stats. A tweet from the developers said: “You can quickly make use of small spaces anywhere on the pitch, but you might give the ball away if you’re not careful.” 2. You can sprint exit out of a Strafe Dribble. The better the average of your Agility + Balance + Dribbling Attributes is, the faster your exit can be. You can quickly make use of small spaces anywhere on the pitch, but you might give the ball away if you’re not careful. — FIFA Direct Communication (@EAFIFADirect) February 13, 2020 3. Team Pressure A lot of players will apply the Team Press tactic to their team during a game, but it’s unclear as to how many actually know what impact it has on the team. By enabling it, you’re basically setting your custom tactic defensive style to constant pressure. 4. Sprint If you double tap RS in a particular direction, when you have the ball, it will knock it further in front of you than just a normal tap would. This can be useful when looking to challenge an opposition player’s pace. 5. Control your passing If you want to control your pass direction, a controller setting called the Late Pass Receiver Lock can do just that. The Early Pass Receiver will lock your pass direction a little sooner than the Late control, meaning you have to be much more precise 6. Celebrations You can instantly skip celebrations and replays after scoring by clicking both of the bumpers at the same time (L1 and R1 or RB and LB). A lot of players will know this one already. 7. Goalkeeping adjustments Goalkeepers can be moved during free kicks by clicking either X and B or Square and Circle, depending on which console you’re playing on. This will move them left and right on the line, which can be useful for closing down the angle of a shot or making the most out of your wall. Holding R3, however, allows you to move around with the keeper. 8. Heading Sometimes it can be tempting to use passing buttons to head the ball clear when defending, but it’s actually much more effective – as a clearance – to use the shot button instead. This is B or Circle on Xbox and PlayStation, respectively. 9. Runs You can ask more than one player at a time to make runs off the ball using LB/L1. Using RB/R1 can also be useful to call players short, making them easier to pass to. 10. Lift your passes Finally, EA SPORTS have revealed that tapping an intended ground pass for a second time actually lifts the ball from the pitch a little, which can be quite useful when passing lanes look closed. Using this, you might be able to squeeze the ball through the gap. So, there you have it! Those are the 10 tips that FIFA 20’s developers shared with fans on February 13, some of which you may have already known. Hopefully, though, there will be at least one thing that you learnt from their post.

EA SPORTS respond to issue with bugged FIFA 20 FUT CONMEBOL cards – Dexerto
EA SPORTS respond to issue with bugged FIFA 20 FUT CONMEBOL cards EA SPORTSEA SPORTS have addressed an issue with the recently released CONMEBOL Sudamericana cards in FIFA Ultimate Team, claiming that players will be compensated for the problems. After months of waiting, EA SPORTS finally dropped the CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores and Sudamericana content for FIFA 20 on March 3 – giving fans the chance to lift the greatest prize in South American football. In addition to the new single-player mode, the Sudamerica cards were also added to Ultimate Team in a similar style to the UEFA Champions League cards. Featuring players like Carlos Tevez, Antonio Valencia, and Emmanuel Adebayor, these cards were styled in unique artwork that hadn’t been seen in FIFA before. However, there have since been issues. Not long after they were released in packs, FUT players noted that they were not receiving the new versions of the cards – only being able to pack the common variations of the cards in their place. However, after a round of complaints, EA SPORTS themselves have addressed the issue by removing the common items from packs until further notice. “Common CONMEBOL Sudamericana player items have been removed from gold packs while we investigate concerns of these items appearing in rare guarantee packs,” they tweeted. “Users who packed these items will be compensated in-game at a later date. Stay tuned for updates.” Common CONMEBOL Sudamericana player items have been removed from gold packs while we investigate concerns of these items appearing in rare guarantee packs. Users who packed these items will be compensated in-game at a later date. Stay tuned for updates.— EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) March 6, 2020 Of course, it’s not the only issue that FIFA 20 has had with getting cards from packs. Players have reported issues in the past with other promos, while back in January, they were unable to claim their Weekend League red player picks. How long until this issue with the cards is fixed remains to be seen – as does the compensation that players will receive. EA could very well refund the packs and give players the coins or packs back – or they could just drop the new cards into their club. It is all a waiting game now, so, we’ll keep you updated as soon as they make a change.

EA SPORTS respond to Kimmich & Sancho TOTSSF card issues – Dexerto
EA SPORTS respond to Kimmich & Sancho TOTSSF card issues EA SPORTSEA SPORTS is investigating issues with the newly-released Joshua Kimmich and Jadon Sancho Team of the Season (TOTS) So Far upgrade cards, the FIFA 20 developers confirmed on Twitter earlier today. English wonder-kid Jadon Sancho and German superstar Joshua Kimmich, who both play in the Bundesliga, were included in FIFA 20’s bumper Ultimate TOTSSF on June 5. Unfortunately, their return to packs wasn’t without issues, as FUT players soon discovered. Over the past few days, players have had major problems when packing both Kimmich and Sancho. Namely, each should emerge from any given FUT pack as a 96-rated wonder-card. Instead, players have been receiving their base releases. Update – June 12 EA SPORTS have resolved the issues with the Sancho and Kimmich TOTSSF cards, and players who were affected have received the correct versions. They can be found in the Unassigned Items section after logging into Ultimate Team following this update. Final Update: The correct Player Items have been granted to impacted players. You can find them in your Unassigned Items after logging into FUT. Thanks for your patience while we worked to resolve this. — FIFA Direct Communication (@EAFIFADirect) June 12, 2020 Original story: EA respond to broken Kimmich & Sancho TOTSSF cards The issue continued across the weekend. FIFA players demanded EA fix the glitch before Weekend League rewards are handed out on Thursday morning. The publishers finally responded after the WL closed for the round. “We are investigating reports of some players receiving incorrect versions of Kimmich and Sancho from packs,” EA said on their fan-direct Twitter account on June 9. “We’ll provide further updates in this thread as they develop.” We are investigating reports of some players receiving incorrect versions of Kimmich and Sancho from packs. We’ll provide further updates in this thread as they develop. — EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) June 9, 2020 This issue is particularly disappointing for FIFA 20 fans because of just how rare it is to pack a Team of the Season card in Ultimate Team. Some players will go entire title cycles without a ‘first owner’ version of the upgraded cards. How to get upgraded Kimmich & Sancho replacements EA has yet to confirm their response to the issue. In the past, however, the publishers have handed out the correct cards once the glitch has been resolved. Read more: FIFA 21 reveal officially delayed by EA – Any players who have been affected by this can likely expect a similar fix. This applies to anyone who packed Jadon Sancho or Joshua Kimmich since FIFA’s Ultimate Team was released on June 5. If you pulled a base card, make sure you contact EA directly for a replacement. These packed player issues are far from the first EA has had to deal with in FIFA 20: only two weeks ago, the game’s Companion App was left broken on both mobile and desktop, leaving players unable to buy or sell cards. Thankfully, FIFA players will soon be able to put EA’s 2019 game in the rear window though, once the fan-voted Futties squad drops. Our first look at FIFA 21, and the new features EA may add, is now expected to be on June 18.

EA SPORTS respond to bugged FIFA 20 Ultimate Team objectives – Dexerto
EA SPORTS respond to bugged FIFA 20 Ultimate Team objectives EA SPORTSEA SPORTS have responded to a number of bugged objectives in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team – dropping a few replacement challenges in their place. Aside from just grinding through games to build up a healthy win-loss ratio that you can use to get one over on your friends, FIFA players also have the chance to tick off objectives through playing matches. Many of these objectives reward players with XP so that they can rank up their season progress and work towards unlocking some special custom cards, while others will drop cosmetics and limited-time card. Yet, on March 20, players found that a few challenges could not be completed. These challenges – one to pick up assists with over the top through balls and a Squad Builder objective to unlock a Rare Player Pack – would not have their progress saved, meaning, that no reward could be gained. In response to the problem, EA noted that they would be changing them up. “Hey FIFA Fans, due to an issue with the ‘Over The Top’ Objective in the ‘Week 2 Silver’ Objective Group, we have removed the Lob Through aspect of the Objective, which will now just require 2 assists,” the FIFA Direct Communications account tweeted. Hey FIFA Fans, due to an issue with the ‘Over The Top’ Objective in the ‘Week 2 Silver’ Objective Group, we have removed the Lob Through aspect of the Objective, which will now just require 2 assists. Thanks for the patience while we worked through this. — EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) March 21, 2020 The developers also changed the Squad Builder Objectives in the Rare Player Pack Objectives Group to a challenge that just required the completion of five games in FUT. This meant that players could keep their progress from the other challenges they’d already completed in the group, meaning they could unlock the rewards that they had worked towards. This will ensure people can keep their current progress against the other Objectives in the Group. Thanks all and apologies for the inconvenience. 2/2 — EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) March 21, 2020 Players pointed out that, while these challenges were bugged, the EA servers were also being affected by problems meaning that they could not jump into games of Weekend League. Whether or not the Weekend League will be extended, as EA has done in the past following issues, remains to be seen. But, as of now, you’ll just have to get your games in before it comes to a close.

EA SPORTS respond to broken FIFA 20 Belgium Pro League SBC – Dexerto
EA SPORTS respond to broken FIFA 20 Belgium Pro League SBC EA SPORTS / Jupiler Pro LeagueEA SPORTS have temporarily disabled the Belgium Pro League SBC Group in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team. The removal comes after it was discovered the Oostende club SBC had a requirement no longer available in FUT Packs. EA added the repeatable Belgian First Division squad building challenge on May 11, alongside a similar challenge set for Mexico’s Liga BBVA MX. The publishers have now disabled the Pro League puzzle, just 24 hours after release. On May 12, the FIFA 20 publishers confirmed the league SBC would be hooked from the challenges lineup to be fixed. The issue arose after EA discovered the club challenge had unsolvable requirements. Heads up: There was an issue with the Oostende SBC within the Belgium Pro League SBC Group. This challenge required Player Items that are no longer available in FUT Packs to be submitted. 1/3 — EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) May 13, 2020 “Heads up, there was an issue with the Oostende SBC within the Belgium SBC Group,” EA said. They continued: “The Belgium Pro League SBC Group has been removed, and will be re-released with adjusted requirements.” The developers have also confirmed any players who rushed to complete the new Belgium puzzles will “be able to continue from where they left off” without losing their progress. FIFA players who completed puzzles for Oostende will have some players returned to them “once the SBC is re-released”. These players include Oostende’s Nicholas Lambert, and Club Athletico Paranaense midfielder Fernando Canesín Matos. Players that submitted the following Items will have them returned to their Club once the SBC is re-released: Nicolas Lombaerts, Fernando Canesín Matos. We’ve begun the process of determining the total number of players impacted and will provide an update within 48 hours. 3/3 — EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) May 13, 2020 Finally, EA confirmed the SBC would be unavailable for around two days. It may return as soon as May 14. They said: “We’ve begun the process of determining the number of players impacted. We will provide an update within 48 hours.” The Belgium SBC Group may be disabled, but there’s still plenty of live FIFA puzzles that will net you top-level cards: FIFA 20 menace Éder Militão just got a Flashback card, while Falcao and Clichy have both had mega-boosts for TOTSSF too.

EA SPORTS respond as FIFA 21 players find big problem with Future Stars cards – Dexerto
EA SPORTS respond as FIFA 21 players find big problem with Future Stars cards EA SPORTSEA SPORTS responded to an issue causing FIFA 21 players to receive incorrect versions of Giovanni Reyna’s and Reece James’ Future Stars cards. FIFA 21’s Future Stars promotion has been a smash hit among players. The Future Stars SBCs are fun and challenging, but the decent rewards and player cards make it worthwhile. Just recently, players have been able to get their hands on two different versions of Sporting’s Pedro Goncalves and Liverpool’s Curtis Jones. They’ve even had a chance to get a special card in a Future Stars Party Bag. However, some players have been running into problems with Giovanni Reyna’s and Reece James’ Future Stars Cards. They’ve received incorrect versions of those cards with different positions and stats to the one they chose. Fortunately, EA SPORTS has acknowledged the issue and responded accordingly. “We are investigating reports of some players having received an incorrect version of FUT Future Stars Player Items Giovanni Reyna & Reece James,” they wrote. EA SPORTS might have missed a trick with FIFA 20 Pro Clubs – Dexerto
EA SPORTS might have missed a trick with FIFA 20 Pro Clubs EA sportsEA Sports have finally revealed brand new features for FIFA 20 Pro Clubs, but it seems that one glaring problem that’s been negatively impacting the mode for years is going to have to wait for another year. The developers announced a preview for the changes that are set for the next installment of the game on July 25, which fans will be able to play through when it hits the shelves on September 27. While there are a number of long-awaited changes coming to the mode, without doubt, there has to be an overwhelming sense of deflation when players get to the new customization tools – especially those who have been calling for a revamp of the mode for a sustained period of time. Seasoned veterans of the FIFA games will be well aware that Pro Clubs has needed a total revamp for a long time. Leaving that to one side for a moment, though, the announcement listed some encouraging changes to broadcast, match types, and requested improvements from the game’s online community – such as kit clash prevention. In general, Pro Clubs players have been left feeling pretty discarded in recent years as EA Sports have focused their attentions on their big money making mode, Ultimate Team. These changes will more than certainly be met with open arms by the majority of the community. Kit clashes will be a thing of the past in FIFA 20. What have been described as new “features” include different camera angles for group celebrations, new tournaments such as the Long Range Cup, the chance to test out formations and play styles against AI in practise matches, and even a few other changes requested by players. However, it must come as a massive shock to see that, despite there being new customization tools on the way in FIFA 20 Pro Clubs, teams will go another year without being able to change the height and stature of the randomly drafted in any players. In FIFA 19, and many games before it, headed duels have not just had a huge impact on the momentum of a match, but have also been difference makers as well – particularly in the latest title. Headers were very much part of the meta. Having no control over the size of your defenders or midfielders, whose responsibility it is to clear the ball at different intervals during games, is limiting the capabilities of the player in the any position. Pro Clubs teams will have the opportunity to play in some different tournaments in FIFA 20, though. You can be as good a defender as you want, if your team has 5ft10 defenders in the box you’re going to struggle to compete with taller players every game. Let’s face it, not many of these random players play like Fabio Cannavaro or Carlos Puyol. It’s not only defender, though. Sometimes the wingers and full backs players are given are much slower than required. It would be a welcome boost to be able to edit and perhaps even develop their growth. After all, they’re part of your team. Those experiencing the same issues in FIFA 20 will have to wait and see if EA Sports have something up their sleeve for the official launch, but from what we can see so far, it really does look like they’ve missed a trick here.

EA Sports replace Ronaldo and reveals new FIFA 19 cover – Dexerto
EA Sports replace Ronaldo and reveals new FIFA 19 cover EA Sports has decided to remove Cristiano Ronaldo from the FIFA 19 cover, by revealing a fresh design for the game. The reasons behind the removal of the Juventus striker from the game case is unclear at this time, however, there will still be a face from the Turin club featured in the new advertising. In a post to Twitter, the official EA Sports FIFA account announced that Argentinian forward Paulo Dybala would now feature alongside two other top players. 16 teams, 7 games, 3 potential champions, 1 :fire: new #FIFA19 cover. https://t.co/pTvLyJF1qw @neymarjr @PauDybala_JR @DeBruyneKev pic.twitter.com/JhjQryW4Av — EA SPORTS FIFA (@EASPORTSFIFA) February 6, 2019 Paris Saint Germain’s Neymar and Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City are the other two cover stars, meaning that three 2018 domestic league title winners will now be at the forefront of the game’s promotional material. This isn’t the first time that a successful trio has appeared as cover stars for a FIFA game – of course – with Ryan Giggs, Roberto Carlos and Edgar Davids forming the original threesome to promote the game in 2003. Many have since followed, including Thierry Henry, Fernando Morientes, Ronaldinho and others. A possible reason behind the change could be further promotion of FIFA’s new exclusive rights with UEFA’s Champions League, which is set to resume on February 12 after a winter break. The developer has been heavily advertising its inclusion in FIFA 19 since the game was launched on September 28 of last year, and this move could be a further continuation of that as we look towards the latter stages of Europe’s most historic competition.

EA SPORTS make more Ultimate Team changes in FIFA 21 Update #12: patch notes – Dexerto
EA SPORTS make more Ultimate Team changes in FIFA 21 Update #12: patch notes EA SPORTSEA SPORTS’ latest FIFA 21 update is a small one, but it addresses several issues with Ultimate Team, Career Mode, VOLTA FOOTBALL, and more. If you want to know all the details, we’ve got you covered. FIFA 21 is still going strong after almost six months, and it’s all thanks to constant tweaks and changes in the updates. The latest patch, Title Update #12, is relatively small compared to others. However, it still makes some important changes that add some much-needed polish. FIFA Ultimate Team players have had to deal with minor issues including the Compare Price function not working correctly on Player Items, the Captain’s Club name not being visible in Co-Op matches, and the Seasoned To Perfection achievement not being completed after the requirements had been met. Fortunately, these issues have all been addressed in the latest patch. It’s nothing groundbreaking, but it helps make the FIFA Ultimate Team experience more polished and seamless. The patch also fixed two minor issues in Career Mode. Using the Quick Sim option on Training Days will now impact a player’s Fitness and Sharpness like it’s supposed to. The ‘Replace 3 Players From The Team Board’ objective will now also count as being completed when the requirements are met. But that’s not all. There’s a handful of other changes too, which you can find in the full list of patch notes below. FIFA 21 Title Update #12 will be available on PC “soon,” with the console version expected to drop several weeks later. FIFA 21 update 12 patch notes The FIFA 21 changes below have all been confirmed by EA SPORTS on the official FIFA blog. EA SPORTS hits back at accusations of ‘driving players’ to FIFA 21 Ultimate Team – Dexerto
EA SPORTS hits back at accusations of ‘driving players’ to FIFA 21 Ultimate Team EA SPORTSSEA SPORTS has released a statement after a ‘leaked document’ claimed to provide evidence that they “drive players” to FIFA 21 Ultimate Team, essentially to make more profit from their players. On April 26, an alleged EA SPORTS insider sent CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) a 54-page document, claiming that it was leaked from EA themselves. The document refers to FIFA Ultimate Team as the “cornerstone of the game,” addressing and laying out plans to “drive excitement & funnel players towards FUT from other modes.” Of course, one of the biggest complaints about Ultimate Team has been the “gambling” aspect of it — spending real money on loot boxes in the hope of getting a top player for your team, with the devs only making changes in recent years to show what chance you have of getting a certain player. Now, EA has come out to make a statement against the accusations. Posting barely a day after the alleged leaked documents were reported on, EA released a statement called “Comments on Recent FIFA Ultimate Team Media Reporting,” both addressing and denying the reports. Read More: FIFA 21 Premier League TOTS predictions – Saying that they “firmly disagree that FIFA or any of our games involve gambling,” EA SPORTS lay out “the facts” in regards to their content and their strategy. Here are the main points detailed in their statement: We always look for opportunities to introduce more players to modes in our games. Our FIFA players are expecting fresh content that makes the service exciting, so that’s a constant focus for us. – We do not “push” people to spend in our games. Where we provide that choice, we are very careful not to promote spending over earning in the game, and the majority of FIFA players never spend money on in-game items. – Summer is a very active time in our FUT community, and we ensure more of our new content and community events in the game are centered there. The new content that we introduce throughout the year includes extensive non-monetized rewards. Decisions to spend are always entirely optional. – Nothing in the leaked document contradicts this in any way — it shows how we are supporting engagement in our game during the summer period, not spending. – We take very seriously our responsibility to provide players a safe and fun experience. – We don’t encourage young players to spend in our games, and we strongly recommend use of family controls to manage the content that children are allowed to access, their ability to spend in games, and how much time they can play. Our EA platform for PC games also includes dedicated Child and Teen accounts, so that all of our players and their parents can make informed choices about how they play. And tools like FIFA Playtime help players take control of how they play, including the ability to set limits to manage their engagement and purchasing. – Finally, they noted that they “hope to see these facts more accurately represented in the future,” clearly unimpressed with the document that came out. Of course, it’s impossible to know the actual truth of the situation, but EA are taking a step in the right direction by addressing the leak and pointing out how players can stay better protected within FIFA 21.

EA SPORTS inks long-term La Liga deal ahead of FIFA 21 – Dexerto
EA SPORTS inks long-term La Liga deal ahead of FIFA 21 EA SPORTSEA SPORTS and La Liga have agreed a new long-term partnership that will see Spain’s top flight included in EA games for the next decade, starting with FIFA 21. This new exclusive deal was announced on June 24, just days after the game developers revealed a first look at their next flagship game at EA play, and means that the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and more will be featuring in the company’s video game titles long into the future. The statement, posted by EA, also includes a joint commitment from both parties to grow esports participation over time. This will be heavily focused on eLaLiga Santander, which is La Liga’s official esports competition for competitive players. Speaking about the new deal, Executive Vice President & Group GM at EA SPORTS, Cam Weber, said: “Our vision is to grow the love of sport through our games and services, and with strategic partnerships with iconic organizations like La Liga, we’re uniquely positioned to deliver unrivaled authenticity and innovation in the years to come. “Our joint commitment will enable both immediate impacts for the next EA SPORTS FIFA experience, and long-term opportunities to continue to strengthen La Liga fan engagement over the next decade.” Read More: First look at Liverpool in FIFA 21 revealed – On the La Liga front, the league’s President – Javier Tebas – was delighted to share the news as well. He added: “This renewal enables us to grow the reach and popularity of La Liga to more and more fans around the world that play EA SPORTS FIFA every day. “Our new agreement signifies our commitment to maintain this growth and create the best entertainment for football fans worldwide.” The relationship between football league and video game series has spanned some 20 years already. As for club brand and kit exclusivity, there was no mention of that in the press release on Business Wire. Some players may be fearing a similar situation to that of other divisions occurring in the future with La Liga, such as Juventus selling their brand rights to PES last season, but it doesn’t look like La Liga sides are going anywhere else any time soon.

EA SPORTS hit with FIFA 21 scripting lawsuit for “dictating outcomes” – Dexerto
EA SPORTS hit with FIFA 21 scripting lawsuit for “dictating outcomes” EA SPORTSEA SPORTS has been hit with a new United States federal lawsuit, which alleges Electronic Arts “unlawfully increases game difficulty” — dubbed ‘scripting’ by a number of FIFA 21 fans — in a deliberate effort to sell more Ultimate Team packs. The lawsuit, Zajonc v. Electronic Arts, was brought to Californian court by three FIFA 21 gamers, Jason Zajnoc, Danyael Williams, and Pranko Lozano. In the suit, they claimed EA SPORTS uses “deceptive practices” and “false advertising” to drive sales in their FUT mode. The lawsuit suggests EA willingly and “unlawfully” tricks FIFA players into buying Ultimate Team loot boxes by “utilizing artificial intelligence technologies that adjust game difficulty dynamically.” As mentioned, this is known as ‘scripting’ by fans. The main charge laid by the plaintiffs is based around EA’s failure to alert FIFA 21 customers about ‘scripting’ features, which are having a direct impact on matches. “Unbeknownst to most… EA utilizes technologies like ‘Dynamic Difficulty Adjustment’ and ‘Adaptive Difficulty.’ These technologies use heuristic prediction and intervention to dictate or even influence outcomes, thereby keeping gamers more engaged,” the suit, filed in November, reads. These features, DDA and AD, are designed to adjust player stat points — both on the front of the card, and in-game — in an effort to influence the result. This can lead to bad passes, poor shots, and wildly varying pace for FIFA players. All of this, the plaintiffs allege, is designed to do one thing: sell more FIFA 21 Ultimate Team packs, dubbed “loot boxes” in similar cases. “This [triggers] a self-perpetuating cycle,” the complaint charges, “leading them to purchase additional player packs in hopes of receiving better players and being more competitive.” According to the plaintiffs, EA SPORTS has violated Californian consumer protection laws, has conducted false advertising and unjust enrichment through their practices. The case, which has not yet been certified as a class action, also regards EA’s other juggernaut franchises, including Madden and NHL. The NFL and hockey titles are two more games in EA’s stables that utilize an ‘Ultimate Team’ mode. EA has responded to the Zajonc v. Electronic Arts lawsuit. The FIFA 21 publishers wrote, “We believe the claims are baseless and misrepresent our games.” This is far from the first time EA SPORTS has come under fire for Ultimate Team packs either. The publishers have been accused of operating an “illegal” gambling system in Canada, and are facing $11.7m worth of fines in the Netherlands and France for similar reasons. Earlier this year, EA hit an “all-time high” in FIFA microtransactions. The company made nearly $1 billion through in-game sales alone in Sep-Dec 2019. A slice of this was then used to lure David Beckham into an exclusive £40m rights deal.

EA SPORTS give update on bugged gold players in FIFA 20 – Dexerto
EA SPORTS give update on bugged gold players in FIFA 20 Graphics: EA SPORTS[jwplayer CIjKnlLy]EA SPORTS have released another update on the recent bugged players issue that has been affecting FIFA Ultimate Team fans – revealing that they’ve managed to fix a few things. For the most part, FIFA Ulitmate Team be it in FIFA 20 or years gone by, does run pretty smoothly. Yes, there have been regular complaints about servers but EA has been trying to rectify things by adding new server locations and making tweaks to matchmaking in title updates. However, in recent weeks, players have been left frustrated by an issue that has seen them only pack the gold version of a player when they were supposed to get a special card of some sort. EA has worked through part of this issue, noting that they’ve fixed a few cards and handed them out. Now, though, they’ve also got a new update as well. The update came from the FIFA Direct Communications account on July 24, as they revealed that some players who have been affected by the issue have now got things straightened out but more cards are coming. “A portion of the affected players have been messaged in-game and have now been granted the correct Player Items. The items can be claimed through the FUT main menu,” they tweeted, noting that an additional update will also follow suit. A portion of the affected players have been messaged in game and have now been granted the correct Player Items. The items can be claimed through the FUT main menu. We continue to work on the remaining affected players and will provide an update here when it’s available. — EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) July 24, 2020 Plenty of FUT fans flooded the replies to point out that they’ve received cards in-game. However, others who got an email saying they’d had their problems fixed, revealed that they’re still waiting. Obviously, it’s clear that the FIFA developers have still got a ways to go in getting the problem fixed. Yet, the update should reassure some players that they’ll be getting their cards sooner rather than later. When that will be exactly, remains to be seen, but keep an eye on the UltimateTeamUK Twitter account for any breaking news and updates.

EA SPORTS finally address FIFA 21 “scripting and handicap” concerns – Dexerto
EA SPORTS finally address FIFA 21 “scripting and handicap” concerns EA Sports[jwplayer YCPHoSg9] Usually unwilling to discuss the topic, EA SPORTS took the surprising step of addressing players’ worries about there being ‘scripting’, ‘handicap’, and ‘momentum’ in FIFA 21. The idea of scripting and momentum in FIFA is something of an urban myth that’s been tossed around the community for years. The basic concept is that behind the scenes, the game tries to create more dramatic moments by helping out the losing team or making things harder for the team that has the lead. Some think this rumor is just a coping mechanism for players to deal with those matches where the other team comes back and wins in the last moment, but a many seem to be convinced something is going on. This was one of the things that EA SPORTS were asked about during their August 5 Q&A Twitter session, and they’ve come flat out and said that FIFA 21 won’t have mechanics like scripting, moment, and handicap because no FIFA game has ever had them, regardless of what the community thinks. We build a football simulation game by implementing the different concepts of football. These concepts include an error system and a physics system which bring variety and authenticity to the game. When recreating the details of football, all real life outcomes are possible (2)— EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) August 5, 2020 “We build a football simulation game by impending the different concepts of football. These concepts include an error system and a physics system which bring variety and authenticity to the game,” EA explained on Twitter. “When recreating the details of football, all real-life outcomes are possible.” They went on to admit that along with this comes certain situations when the game can feel random and “outside of user control” but assured us that they were actively focusing on this in FIFA 21. “From a gameplay design perspective, there is absolutely no need to implement systems to influence the outcome of the game artificially,” they said. “Since all the above mentioned already creates a football-like experience for our players.” From a gameplay design perspective, there is absolutely no need to implement systems to influence the outcome of the game artificially, since all the above mentioned already creates a football-like experience for our players. (4/5)— EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) August 5, 2020 Of course, the news here isn’t that FIFA 21 won’t have scripting, because it’s not as if EA would ever admit if it does. However, the fact that they went as far as to address it, despite the years of shunning the subject and turning a deaf ear to complaints, can be seen as a positive step forward for the developers. That said, it’s hard to imagine their comments convincing anyone, especially the longer, more veteran players who have had to deal with the franchise’s randomness for years. FIFA 21, like every other game in the series, will have its fair share of randomness, and there will still be those who consider that a way to balance things out between players and teams. In other news, EA also revealed the first proper gameplay trailer for FIFA 21 on August 5, giving us more of a look at what we can expect from the latest installment in the series. EA SPORTS FC leaks: Everything we know about ‘FIFA 24’ replacement – Dexerto
EA SPORTS FC leaks: Everything we know about ‘FIFA 24’ replacement EA SportsEA Sports FC rumors are beginning to trickle out. Here is everything you need to know about EA’s next project after its FIFA license expires. FIFA 23 marks the end of an era. After a nearly 30-year partnership, Electronic Arts announced a rebrand, moving on from FIFA. After FIFA 23, EA will rebrand future titles as EA Sports FC. FIFA President Gianni Infantino revealed a new ‘e-game‘ to rival EA Sports FC, and community members flamed the bizarre announcement. Despite losing the FIFA license, EA still boasts an impressive exclusive license collection of 19,000 players across 700 plus teams in more than 100 stadiums in over 30 leagues. EA also reassured fans that fans could still play every familiar game mode. EA touted the new title as the start of “an exciting new era,” so without further ado, let’s jump right into what fans can expect from the first year of EA Sports FC. EA Sports FC Ultimate Team In an interview with the New York Times, EA executive David Jackson claimed, “Under the licensing conventions that we had agreed with FIFA 10 years ago, there were some restrictions that weren’t going to allow us to be able to build those experiences for players.” One of those new features may have surfaced, as FUTZone leaked that EA Sports FC Ultimate Team will feature Dynamic Packs. If players open more packs, they will have a higher chance of packing a high-rated or special card. For example, you have a 5% chance of packing a 90-plus card if you don’t get one after 15 packs. Every year FIFA unveils a new batch of Icons and heroes. FUTZone revealed the first two legends fans can expect in EA Sports FC. Dimitar Berbatov shined in his four seasons with Manchester United, winning two Premier League titles and winning a Golden Boot in 2010-11. The memorable striker is Bulgaria’s all-time leading goal scorer. also surpassed icon Hristo Stoichkov for most Bulgarian Footballer of the Year awards. FUTZone also revealed that Bobby Charlton is coming to EA Sports FC as an Icon. Charlton is a man who doesn’t need an introduction. The English midfielder is considered one of the greatest players of all time, winning a World Cup in England in 1996 and the Ballon d’Or that year as well. Charlton made over 600 appearances for Manchester United, and is one of only nine players to win a World Cup, Champions League, and Ballon d’Or. He would immediately top the charts as one of the game’s best legends. EA SPORTS FC 24 game engine EA SPORTS FC news source Donk revealed new information about the upcoming game’s engine. Donk claimed that the new Hypermotion V gameplay technology system is “insane.” Here is everything the leaker revealed. Frames captured FIFA 22 – 8.7M – FIFA 23 – 9.2M – EAFC 24 – 590M frames of advanced 11v11 game capture – EA SPORTS FC will have 80x more animations than FIFA 23 and Realistic engine animations are being used to help coaches teach football drills IRL. Career Mode changes An online career mode has been at the top of FIFA players’ wishlists for years now. Like Football Manager, the game mode allows friends to control different teams in the same save. Before FIFA 22, we reported an EA job advert hiring online software engineers to work on an online career mode. Fans expected the game mode to be included in FIFA 22 or 23, but neither game introduced an online career mode. According to FUTZone, an online career mode is coming in EA Sports FC. The game mode will reportedly feature no real clubs, limited server sizes, restricted transfers, and cut scenes. Pro Clubs Pro Clubs is a cult-favorite game mode, beloved by many, that hasn’t seen much innovation over the past few games. FIFA 22 introduced Perks and Archetypes, giving each virtual pro more personality and a defined playstyle. FIFA 23 improved the player growth system, making earning XP to level up your created player easier. Incremental changes failed to impress some community members. Fans were also disappointed when EA neglected to include cross-platform functionality with Pro Clubs. According to FUTZone, Cross play will be a feature in EA Sports FC, finally enabling PC, Xbox, and PlayStation users to team up or face one another. That’s everything we know about EA Sports FC. Take every leak above with a pinch of salt, as FUTZone has been incorrect in the past. EA confirmed they will reveal more information about EA Sports FC in July.

More: FIFA eClub World Cup groups confirmed The rewards offered in these packs are untradeable however, although you could still pack some great players to slot into your FIFA 19 Ultimate Teams. Any unwanted untradeable players in your club are best used for SBC solutions, where you can exchange them for a FUT card that you actually want. EA SPORTS FC: FIFA rebrand, game modes, licenses, more – Dexerto
EA SPORTS FC: FIFA rebrand, game modes, licenses, more EA SportsSince parting ways with FIFA, their partner for many years, EA has introduced EA SPORTS FC 24. Dive into what we’ve learned about this release, covering aspects from rebranding to game modes and licenses. Touted by EA as “the future of interactive football,” EA SPORTS FC 24 stands out as a landmark transition following the end of their three-decade alliance with FIFA. Many fans are understandably curious about what this change means for the game, and want to know whether core elements including Career Mode and Ultimate Team will still be available to play. With that in mind, here’s everything we know about EA SPORTS FC so far, including the rebrand, game modes, licenses, and more. Contents EA SPORTS FC release date and platforms – EA SPORTS FC game modes – EA SPORTS FC leagues – EA SPORTS FC licenses – EA SPORTS FC release date & platforms EA SPORTS FC 24 is available now for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Many fans who pre-ordered the game could choose from various editions available with unique bonuses. You can read all about them in this guide. EA SPORTS FC game modes The good news for FIFA fans is that EA have confirmed that all of the game modes they are used to seeing are set to return in EA SPORTS FC. As far as we know right now, there are no plans to remove any modes that currently exist in FIFA titles. It’s no surprise to see that Ultimate Team will be returning, as it’s become one of EA’s biggest draws in recent years. How FUT, or whatever it will be shortened to going forward, is tweaked to accommodate the new branding remains to be seen. Here are all of the game modes confirmed to feature in EA SPORTS FC: Ultimate Team – Career Mode – Pro Clubs – VOLTA – With the newfound freedom the developers have without the restriction of the FIFA deal, it’s also possible we could see some new modes. We’ll update this section as soon as any news drops. EA SPORTS FC leagues One of the biggest selling points of the FIFA series over a rival like eFootball (formally PES) is the fully-realized players, clubs, and leagues it offers. It appears as though EA SPORTS FC will retain its many licenses, much to the relief of long-time fans. EA holds the rights for over 700 teams, each with their official kits and players, from over 30 different leagues from around the world. They can also use more than 100 stadiums from these domestic leagues, including the likes of Old Trafford, San Siro, and La Bombonera. It’s worth noting that certain teams like Juventus are not covered by the Serie A license, and that is also unlikely to change in EA SPORTS FC. Check out the full list of licensed leagues confirmed to feature: Premier League (England) – EFL Championship (England) – EFL League One (England) – EFL League Two (England) – Ligue 1 (France) – Ligue 2 (France) – Bundesliga (Germany) – Bundesliga 2 (Germany) – 3. Liga (Germany) – Serie A (Italy) – La Liga (Spain) – La Liga Smartbank (Spain) – Eredivisie (Netherlands) – Liga Profesional de Futbol (Argentina) – A-League (Australia) – O. Bundesliga (Austria) – 1A Pro League (Belgium) – Liga do Brasil (Brazil) – Chinese Super League (China) – 3F Superliga (Denmark) – J-1 (Japan) – K League 1 (South Korea) – Liga MX (Mexico) – Eliteserien (Norway) – Ekstraklasa (Poland) – Liga Portugal (Portugal) – Premier Division (Republic of Ireland) – Liga I (Romania) – Pro League (Saudi Arabia) – SPL (Scotland) – Allsvenskan (Sweden) – Super League (Switzerland) – Super Lig (Turkey) – MLS (USA / Canada) – EA SPORTS FC licenses On top of the usual leagues and players, EA began to expand to require licenses for other tournaments in recent years. This began with international cups and soon expanded into domestic European competitions. The popular World Cup content was featured in FIFA 23, but there is no word on whether EA can use that particular license beyond once the partnership has ended. So, we’ll have to wait and see if Career Mode players can take part in the World Cup in EA SPORTS FC. Luckily, UEFA is committed to keeping its partnership with the football series going. This means that the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League will all return in both Career Mode, and Ultimate Team for promos like Road to the Final. In a statement shared along with the initial announcement, Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA Director of Marketing, said: “With a shared commitment to serve football fans around the world, we look forward to our continued partnership with EA SPORTS FC to provide players with authentic in-game experiences featuring the club competitions they love.” That’s everything we know about the new era of EA football titles so far, we’ll update this page with all the latest details as and when they are announced. Major FIFA Points price change revealed ahead of EA SPORTS FC 24 – Dexerto
Major FIFA Points price change revealed ahead of EA SPORTS FC 24 EAElectronic Arts raised the price of FIFA Points in certain territories ahead of the EA Sports FC 24 launch later this year. A few weeks ago, Electronic Arts announced plans to enact price changes across an unspecified number of games due to “changing economic conditions.” The company said the adjustments would enter into effect starting June 1, with the impacted titles including the likes of Apex Legends and Madden 23. EA’s price balancing initiative only applies to certain regions, thus far. Given the latest news on the matter, FIFA players in the affected territories will want to remain informed about price changes. EA launches FIFA Points price adjustments In an EA.com post, the publisher revealed that FIFA marks the latest title to undergo a pricing update. The message reads in part, “As we continue to see global economic fluctuations, including significant changes in currency valuation, we’re working to balance prices of our live service content across all currencies globally.” Starting June 1, then, users in certain territories will notice price increases for FIFA 23’s FIFA Points on EA.com and the EA App. Meanwhile, players in other regions will notice a price reduction. Known regions affected by the FIFA Points price changes According to the numbers crunched by FUTBIN, PlayStation owners in the UK can expect a pretty significant increase. For example, the previous pricing model sold 100 Points for £.79; now the same number of Points costs £.99. 12,000 Points once ran £79.99 but will now have users paying £87.99. While it doesn’t seem as though the prices have changed in the United States, FIFA faithful in regions besides the UK are facing higher FIFA Point costs. Twitch streamer CrispyTV said 12,000 Points in Australia used to retail for $120.00 AUD. Thanks to EA’s update, such a purchase currently boasts a $150.00 price tag. And even with the EA Play discount, streamer DavisPlayzz notes that New Zealand has additionally been impacted by a steep increase in FIFA Points prices. Notably, this only applies to PC and PlayStation platforms, so Xbox users are in the clear for now. It’s presently unknown if similar changes will make their way to Microsoft’s ecosystem.

EA Sports FC 24 to copy popular NBA 2K feature according to leaker – Dexerto
EA Sports FC 24 to copy popular NBA 2K feature according to leaker EA / 2KFootball fans are both excited and nervous to see what EA Sports FC 24, the rebrand of the FIFA series, will have in store. According to one leaker, the publisher will be adapting a popular NBA 2K feature that fans have been asking for. FIFA 23 will be the final game in EA’s football franchise to use the FIFA name before the series gets rebranded as EA Sports FC. After a nearly 30-year partnership, it’s no surprise that fans are curious as to what the future will hold. 2022’s game is already shaping up nicely, after a host of new licenses and FUT Heroes were revealed, but little is known about how EA Sports FC 24 will look. Well, we may have our first details, as according to one FIFA leaker EA is looking to rival sports series NBA 2K and bringing over a fan-favorite feature. Leaker FUTZone has claimed that a free roam mode similar to NBA 2K’s MyCOURT is in development for future releases, a feature that has long been requested by FIFA players. MyCOURT is essentially a hub accessed in between games in the NBA 2K equivalent of Player Career, where players can freely wander around or shoot some hoops. It’s also crammed full of minigames that can be enjoyed alone or with friends. According to FUTZone, EA Sports FC 24 will follow suit with a range of street pitches or generic stadiums to be explored before and after matches. The option will also be there to invite friends, as the leaker claimed that Online Career Mode is being worked on in tandem. Note: I believe this will come in EA SPORTS FC 24 alongside Online Career Mode as it’s early in development. — FUTZone – EA SPORTS FC News 🔺 (@FUTZONEFIFA) June 9, 2022 FIFA Player Career has been lacking for time compared to 2K, which offers everything from sponsorship deals to penthouse apartments for players to make use of. Recent NBA 2K releases have expanded the MyCOURT concept into a fully-fledged open world called The City, complete with shops and NPCs. While it’s unlikely that EA’s first attempt will aim that high, fans will be excited to see Player Career get expanded on with more freedom and customization options. It’s worth noting that while the leaker has been proven right in the past, their alleged leaks have sometimes missed the mark. So until the feature is revealed by EA, this news should be taken with a pinch of salt. We’re still pretty far away from the release of EA Sports FC, but we still have plenty of FIFA 23 content to look forward to in the meantime.

FIFA “scripting” claims debunked after EA SPORTS reveals game code in court battle – Dexerto
FIFA “scripting” claims debunked after EA SPORTS reveals game code in court battle EA SPORTSEA SPORTS appear to have debunked long-standing claims FIFA gameplay is secretly controlled by “scripting” after producing evidence amid a Californian legal battle regarding Ultimate Team and their flagship title’s code. Lawsuit claimed EA unlawfully altered gameplay. – In response, FIFA publishers unveiled ‘DDA’ inner workings. – “Scripting” claims now appear to have been debunked. – FIFA fans have long claimed gameplay in the football title’s competitive Ultimate Team mode, as well as a majority of online playlists, have been secretly controlled by notorious “scripting.” The theory revolves around “Dynamic Difficulty Adjustment,” a code string found in the franchise’s backend. According to FIFA players, this “DDA” code will fiddle with player stats, game chance, and the overall result of online games. For many, the secret presence of “scripting” in FIFA isn’t a theory, it’s an unspoken fact. In Nov. 2020, three Californians forced EA’s hand on the issue. They leveled a lawsuit — ‘Zajonc v. Electronic Arts’ — at the FIFA publishers, claiming they “unlawfully increase game difficulty” in an effort to sell more Ultimate Team packs across multiple titles. That lawsuit has now been withdrawn, EA confirmed, after the famous sports publishers unveiled the inner workings of their “DDA” system used in FIFA, Madden, and NHL Ultimate Team matches during the now-closed court battle. “We provided them with detailed technical information and access to speak with our engineers, all of which confirmed (again) that there is no DDA or scripting in Ultimate Team modes,” an EA SPORTS spokesperson said on March 4. “Ensuring play is fair is critical to all of us at EA. We’ve tried to be as clear as possible that this commitment applies to us just as much as it does to our players,” the publishers continued. “While EA does own a patent for DDA technology, that was never in FIFA.” “We’ve publicly said before we do not use any scripting or ‘Dynamic Difficulty Adjustment’ (DDA) or anything similar that would automatically adjust the difficulty of gameplay in FIFA, Madden and NHL Ultimate Team matches. Read More: FIFA 21 “What If” Team 1 revealed – “We would not use DDA technology to give online players an advantage or disadvantage in multiplayer modes. We absolutely do not have it in FIFA, Madden, or NHL. EA and the FIFA, Madden, and NHL teams remain committed to fair play.” The ‘Zajonc’ court party has not commented on the findings. EA is still facing a long-term lawsuit in France over similar “scripting” issues. This is far from the first time EA SPORTS has become embroiled in a lawsuit regarding Ultimate Team packs either.

EA SPORTS consider removing Ronaldinho from FIFA 20 Ultimate Team – Dexerto
EA SPORTS consider removing Ronaldinho from FIFA 20 Ultimate Team EA SportsAccording to a new report, EA Sports are seriously considering removing Brazilian legend Ronaldinho from FIFA 20 Ultimate Team after his legal troubles in Paraguay. Ronaldinho and his brother were arrested in Paraguay on March 6 after allegedly attempting to enter the country with forged documents, and passports matching their descriptions were found to be fraudulent due to their nationalities being listed as Paraguayan. The buck doesn’t stop there for Ronaldinho though, who is now facing disciplinary action in FIFA 20 as well as in the real world, as EA Sports are apparently seriously considering removing him from the game entirely. According to a report from ESPN Brazil via Diário Olé, EA are studying the removal of the player after his legal troubles, which would mean all four of his Icon cards would be removed from the game entirely. Ronaldinho’s Icon cards, which span throughout the duration of his career with ratings of 89, 91, 94 and 95 are highly-desired cards, with teams often built around them or sold so as to accommodate a much stronger starting eleven. His legend status on the pitch is reflected well in his in-game statistics and standing, but it’s very possible that before long he won’t be in the game at all, and it wouldn’t be an entirely surprising move. EA Sports have shown that they’re not afraid to make bold decisions such as these. Earlier in the FIFA 20 lifecycle, Dutch legend Marco van Basten was removed from the game entirely due to his use of a controversial phrase during a TV broadcast. Also, in FIFA 19, Cristiano Ronaldo stopped being highlighted or shown as much after allegations were made against him. It’s impossible to tell at this point what EA Sports will do with Ronaldinho’s inclusion as an Icon in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team, especially for a player so unanimously revered among football fans, but they’re clearly not afraid to make hard decisions. What it would mean for owners, though, remains to be seen.

EA Sports criticized for response to FIFA 20 FUT Icons swap exploit – Dexerto
EA Sports criticized for response to FIFA 20 FUT Icons swap exploit EA Sports have been criticized for their rapid response to a FIFA 20 Ultimate Team Icons swap exploit, with many community members suggesting they should be able to fix a number of the game’s other issues. FIFA 20 has had a mixed reception from players. Both the casual and competitive communities have lamented the game for its bugs and some gameplay complaints, with some arguing it does little to build on the established formula of FIFA games. Of course, this is the preference for some players too. Professional player Kurt0411 was banned for spitting on an EA logo amid his furious rant against the company. The latest FIFA title has also been slammed for its reliance on “pay-to-win” mechanics, as players who plow real money into the game stand the best chance of in-game success. On January 10, it became clear that an ICON swap exploit was prominent in FIFA 20. The alleged exploit allowed players to earn tokens through ‘Friendly’ matches, essentially meaning players could guarantee themselves the untradeable ICONs far more easily than intended. In response, EA patched the exploit rapidly, leading to many fans criticizing them for failing to fix other FIFA 20 issues quickly. Among them was Craig ‘NepentheZ’ Douglas, a popular British FIFA YouTuber. “It’s things like this that p*ss people off,” he said. “There’s a glitch that benefits people with getting Icon Swaps tokens quicker and it’s patched in QUICK time.” It’s things like this that piss people off @EASPORTSFIFA @EAFIFADirect There’s glitch that benefits people with getting Icon Swaps tokens quicker and its patched in QUICK time. There are 100 other “”quick fixes”” that you could make too, and you ignore them. smh. #FIFA20 — NepentheZ (@NepentheZ) January 10, 2020 “There are 100 other “quick fixes” that you could make too,” he continued, “and you ignore them. Shake my head.” His opinion was echoed by a number of FIFA 20 players. “They did us dirty like that for 3 tokens,” one Twitter user said, while another echoed: “Glitch patched so fast that no one even knew there was a glitch.” The general consensus among community members was that EA patched the update rapidly so players could not earn their ICON tokens faster than normal, but other bugs that hinder players are not addressed nearly as speedily. The winning formula is: If it lessens the grind, patch IMMEDIATELY If it hinders the players, no rush take 2 days and when fixing not worry about those who got an unfair advantage and screw the rest lol(swaps patch vs. red player picks patch) — Shade (@GamingSho) January 10, 2020 One player summarized the frustrations as: “If it lessens the grind, patch IMMEDIATELY. If it hinders the players, no rush, take 2 days and when fixing don’t worry about those who got an unfair advantage and screw the rest.” Read More: FIFA 20 Premier League Player of the Month – Others were less cynical, and praised EA for a rapid patch to an in-game exploit. However, they made clear they want to see the same attitude to all the game’s issues.

EA SPORTS concerns fans after scrapping FIFA 21 demo – Dexerto
EA SPORTS concerns fans after scrapping FIFA 21 demo EA Sports[jwplayer S0RLWo1s]EA SPORTS have drawn some criticism for scrapping the FIFA 21 demo after fans had been expecting its release ahead of the game’s full launch. Each year, prior to the release of the new FIFA title, there are few things to tick off along the way. We have the cover reveal and first gameplay tease as the summer starts, then everything builds up to the beta, ratings release, and then the Web App. Though, for fans who aren’t lucky enough to get beta access, the demo provides the first chance to get hands on with the new game. In years past, the demo has typically launched two weeks before the games actual release, but that isn’t the case with FIFA 21. On September 21, EA SPORTS confirmed that they would not be releasing a demo for FIFA 21. They stated this is because they’re working on getting things ready for next-gen, but some fans aren’t pleased. Plenty of fans responded to the dev’s tweet about scrapping the demo, expressing their displeasure, and voicing their theories on why it’s been cancelled. FIFA YouTuber Danny ‘R9Rai’ quickly chimed in, saying: “No excuse now, gameplay has to be 10/10 lads.” Other content creators like Nick28T and MattFUTtrading urged EA to not let the fans down. “It is all understandable under current COVID issues. Just don’t let us down when you DO release the game,” said Nick. No excuse now gameplay has to be 10/10 lads. No button delay pls — R9Rai (@R9Rai) September 21, 2020 Just make #FIFA21 good. That’s all we want. Please. No demo. Late game release. It is all understandable under current COVID issues. Just don’t let us down when you DO release the game. — Nick 🇨🇦 (@Nick28T) September 21, 2020 Fair play, spend the time focusing on the best full game experience. Just don’t disappoint, seeing as the first time many will get to play the game will be through a paid version. Don’t. Let. The. Fans. Down. 👍🏻 — Matt (@MattFUTTrading) September 21, 2020 Not everyone took the post so well, however. Many quickly spammed EA’s replies with clown emojis and berated them for breaking with the traditions. Posters on Reddit, like jnicholl, suggested that the demo had been scrapped to prevent people canceling pre-orders. “More like they don’t want people to cancel their preorder by playing a demo with sh**e gameplay,” they commented. Others suggested that scrapping the demo would disrupt the hype surrounding the release – especially as next-gen approaches. Comment byu/GeorgeCuz from discussion inEASportsFC Though many concerns might be valid, EA not rolling out a demo is understandable as the on-going global pandemic is likely to disrupted development and they’re also gearing up for next-gen – which could have some different gameplay than current gen. As of writing, the October 9 release date of FIFA 21 remains in place but if anything changes you’ll be able to find the latest news over on @UltimateTeamUK.

EA Sports announces FIFA 22 crossplay test coming soon – Dexerto
EA Sports announces FIFA 22 crossplay test coming soon EA SportsAnswering the prayers of players on systems of all kinds, EA Sports have announced they’ll finally be starting a crossplay test for FIFA 22. Crossplay has consistently been one of the most-requested features from the FIFA community over the last few years. Following a leak in March 2022 that suggested EA could start testing the feature in FIFA 22, before fully implementing it in FIFA 23, the publisher announced on May 2 crossplay testing would indeed be starting soon. EA to start FIFA crossplay testing “in near future” In a May 2 Pitch Notes, EA provided an extensive Q&A detailing how the testing of crossplay would be going down in FIFA 22. We’re looking to start a FIFA 22 Cross-play test in the near future. Learn all about it with our latest Pitch Notes ⬇️https://t.co/W9GEzSBIBS — EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) May 2, 2022 The crossplay test will include Online Seasons and Online Friendlies modes, allowing a couple of different ways to play with friends on different platforms. One thing we don’t know for sure is when the crossplay testing will begin. However, if EA is announcing it already, we probably won’t have to wait too long. How to use Crossplay in FIFA 22 When you’re in the main menu of FIFA 22, you can find a widget in the bottom right hand corner that can be opened with a button prompt, like the picture above shows. From here, simply follow the prompts to enable or disable your crossplay participation. That’s it! You can also search for friends regardless of their platform using the same menu, and even block and/or mute someone, as well. With this testing going down in FIFA 22, it’s safe to say that crossplay will most likely be arriving as a built-in feature for FIFA 23, just like leaks indicated before the official announcement.

EA slammed over FIFA 22 pre-order “false advertising” as fans demand compensation – Dexerto
EA slammed over FIFA 22 pre-order “false advertising” as fans demand compensation EAEA have been slammed by the FIFA community for “false advertising” after the developers confirmed that a FIFA 22 Ultimate Edition ‘Ones to Watch’ bonus had been incorrectly listed. FIFA fans will be long accustomed to EA dropping multiple different editions of the yearly football title. While previous years have included Champions, Ultimate, and Standard versions, FIFA 22 is only dropping in Ultimate and Standard forms. As has become customary, the Ultimate edition comes at a higher price tag with a host of bonuses, including four-day early access (meaning players can begin playing on September 27, rather than having to wait until October 1). However, controversy has emerged in the build-up to the game’s release, after EA confirmed that one bonus item had been incorrectly listed. As part of the Ultimate Edition, players were promised a One to Watch player pick item in an EA Help article. In actuality, players will simply earn an untradeable OTW player, but will not be given a choice. A player pick item sees the game generate a number of cards, from which players can pick their favorite (often the highest rated). EA confirmed the mistake on September 18, and said they have now corrected the article to reflect the Ultimate Edition’s bonus content. For the full information around all FIFA 22 bonus content information, make sure to check the updated article at: https://t.co/x6EHqRRPQ5 — EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) September 18, 2021 A number of responses were incredibly critical of EA, suggesting that it was misleading and a number of fans who have pre-ordered the Ultimate edition will have been short-changed. One Twitter user responded: “There are mistakes and then there [are] details posted in legitimate FAQs… At some point, you need accurate and efficient verification of information or you need to honour your mistake. It’s borderline false advertising”. Another responded sarcastically: “Could you just double check everything else you’ve written please? Are Hero cards still coming out this year or is that for FIFA 23?” A third commented: “It is an electronic item with no real terms value or cost to you. You should act in good faith and deliver the advertised product.” What is the remedy those who specifically ordered the game as a result of this? It is an electronic item with no real terms value or cost to you. You should act in good faith and deliver the advertised product. Failure to do so gives the appearance of “”bait and switch””. — KittyUp (@KittyUp4) September 18, 2021 Others, though, played down EA’s error and suggested anyone disappointed should request a refund with their purchaser. FIFA 22 releases on October 1, or September 27 if you’ve pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition.

EA SPORTS finally add FIFA 20 Icons to Kick Off & Career Mode – Dexerto
EA SPORTS finally add FIFA 20 Icons to Kick Off & Career Mode EA SPORTSEA SPORTS have finally added FIFA Ultimate Team Icons, including legendary stars like Pelé, Zinedine Zidane, Ruud Gullit, Ronaldo, and more, to FIFA 20 Kick-Off and Career Mode, the publishers confirmed on June 10. FIFA Icons were first added to EA’s long-standing football title in FIFA 14. Back then, Maldini, Best, and Matthäus were among the top stars. The cards, known as Legends, were all Xbox exclusive for their first four years. In 2018, Legends were overhauled for Icons, and the former stars arrived on PlayStation as well. The roster was trimmed significantly. While Icons may have spread to all consoles in 2018, however, they remained locked to FUT — until now. EA confirmed via Twitter that they were adding the iconic retired legends to FIFA 20’s popular Kick-Off mode in a server-side patch on June 10. That means Icons will also be available in career mode, with a bit of fiddling. “Through a server release, we’ve added the Soccer Aid World XI FC to Kick Off, a new team with some of the most renowned names in football history,” the publishers confirmed. “You can access it in the Rest of World category.” Through a server release, we’ve added the Soccer Aid World XI FC to Kick Off (PS4/X1/PS4), a new team with some of the most renowned names in football history. You can access it in the Rest of World category when Live Form is set to ‘on.’ — EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) June 10, 2020 The Icon squad, called the Soccer Aid World XI in Kick-Off mode, includes Pele, Ronaldinho, Maradona, Zidane, Gullit, Matthaus, Figo, Baresi, Maldini, Cannavaro, and Schmeichel in the starting lineup. Del Piero, Rush, and more make the bench. Of course, Kick Off mode is good for a few runs, but what many non-FUT players really love to sink their teeth into is Career Mode. Here’s how you can slot the former legends into your next FIFA 20 career adventure. How to get FUT Icons in FIFA 20 Career Mode To get the high-rated Icons in your next career challenge, you’ll have to follow these simple steps to move them into the squad: Go to “Customise” on FIFA 20 main menu, and select “Edit Teams” from the eight selections under that option. – Here, choose the “Reset All Squads” option to make sure you have the latest roster updates released by EA. Be warned, this will remove all custom-created players you have made in FIFA 20 so far. – After downloading the new roster update, head to “Edit Teams” and select the “Club Transfers” option on the top right. From here, pick the “Free Agents” column, which should now contain all FUT 20 Icons. If not, search up the player you want to move. – In the Free Agents club transfers screen, select the player you want to move to another club. On the right of this player’s information screen, change their “Team” to whatever club you want them to move to. – Once you have done this with as many players as you want to add, return to the menu and start up a Career Mode save. Make sure you select “Use current squads,” and get underway with your new-look team! – ICONS AVAILABLE IN #FIFA20 CAREER MODE!! (CONSOLES)• CUSTOMISE • EDIT TEAMS • SEARCH FOR ICON BY NAME • ADD TO TEAM • START A NEW CAREER MODE WITH CURRENT SQUADS. pic.twitter.com/cp0nllVPM4— FCG (@FCGems_) June 10, 2020 EA also confirmed the newly-added World XI should have more than one Icon kit available to use in kick off. At the moment, just a single kit is available. The FIFA publishers said they are “actively investigating” the launch issue. So, what are you waiting for? Get into a FIFA 20 Career Mode with the greatest stars to have ever stepped onto a football pitch! Once you’ve built a superstar Icons lineup, show us the XI on Twitter at @UltimateTeamUK.

EA removes Russia from FIFA 22 & NHL 22 in “solidarity” with Ukraine – Dexerto
EA removes Russia from FIFA 22 & NHL 22 in “solidarity” with Ukraine EA SPORTSIn an effort to show solidarity towards the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, EA is set to remove Russia from their FIFA and NHL titles, two of the publisher’s flagship series. EA have shown no hesitation in axing controversial players in the past, and it appears that the publisher is set to take a stand once again. Originally leaked via a company email, and later confirmed by EA, plans are in motion Russia from two of their major sports releases – FIFA and NFL. This comes as a message of support for the people of Ukraine, after Russia launched an invasion of their country. In a statement from the official FIFA Twitter account, it was confirmed that Russian clubs would be removed from FIFA products, in a “call for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine.” NHL 22 followed suit shortly after, adding that club or national teams tied to Russia or Belarus would be axed in the “coming weeks.” It does, however, still remain to be seen how Ultimate Team modes will be handled. Players from Russia and Belarus make up part of the Ultimate Team roster found in both games, which fans can purchase from an in-game market. In the past, EA have taken out specific players when need be, but we’ll have to wait and see if the publisher chooses to completely purge Russia’s presence in the modes. A statement from EA SPORTS FIFA: pic.twitter.com/v3pZvpblgS — EA SPORTS FC (@EASPORTSFC) March 2, 2022 Ultimate Team also features Russian kits, badges, tifos, and other cosmetics, so we’re expecting to see those done away with also. The usual protocol is to price fix the removed items, to stop players from trying to make a quick profit. There is still no concrete timeline as to how long it will take for the content in question to leave the games, however, the team assured fans that any action would be clearly communicated when it is taken. As this is still a developing story, we’ll be sure to keep this article updated as and when more details are confirmed.

EA servers are currently experiencing major issues, impacting users on FIFA 19 and Battlefield 1 [UPDATED] – Dexerto
EA servers are currently experiencing major issues, impacting users on FIFA 19 and Battlefield 1 [UPDATED] We will keep this article updated with any new information announced by EA, or any developments that occur relating to the ongoing server and connection issues. The game servers of Electronic Arts are currently experiencing major issues and hundreds of users are unable to get online. The issue is seemingly impacting thousands players attempting to access major EA titles such as FIFA 19 and Battlefield 1 across Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Origin on PC. Connectivity error messages began popping up for users on their platforms early on November 1, and even those who are able to get online are experiencing heavy menu lag, especially in FIFA 19. Down Detector, an independent outage monitor, reported thousands complaints on social media about EA servers, with roughly 69% of them coming from FIFA 19 players. UPDATE – 11/1/2018 5:14 PM PT EA have announced that all services are now back up and running. All of our services are now back up and running. Thanks for sticking with us while we got this sorted out. Happy gaming! — EA Help (@EAHelp) November 2, 2018 After initially being vague about the situation, EA eventually officially acknowledged that there were connectivity issues in a statement they put out on Twitter. “We’re having some trouble with our services right now, so you might not be able to get into your games or create a case with us on help.ea.com,” they tweeted. “We’re looking into it, and we’ll let you know when we have more info. Ironically, the EA Help website linked in the tweet is also experiencing major lag and connection issues, which likely has to do with the heavy load of users who are attempting to access the page. We’re having some trouble with our services right now, so you might not be able to get into your games or create a case with us on https://t.co/FsLr81tLiC. We’re looking into it, and we’ll let you know when we have more info. — EA Help (@EAHelp) November 1, 2018 As of now, EA have not revealed what could be causing these issues or how long this situation will last before being resolved. From the standpoint of FIFA 19, the timing could not have been any worse, as the in-game rewards for the previous week’s Weekend League were awarded on Thursday, which is also the starting date of this week’s Weekend League. However, in previous instances where connection issues affected Weekend League, EA have usually granted extensions to both the start and end dates of the competition, as well as the the deadline to register.

EA Servers down? FIFA 20 online server status & maintenance monitoring – Dexerto
EA Servers down? FIFA 20 online server status & maintenance monitoring Graphics: EAIf you are one of those FIFA 20 players who have found themselves frantically looking for information about not being able to get into matches, sudden downtime or maintenance, this article should be able to tell you whether or not the EA servers are down. As many will know already, game developers can either have expected downtimes that are announced in advance, informing players to keep away from the game for a certain period of time while things are changed. However, when you can see “EA servers” trending on social media and your game suddenly isn’t allowing you to jump into a few games of Ultimate Team, Pro Clubs, or have access to online features in FIFA 20, people need somewhere to look in order to monitor the situation. The normal EA SPORTS protocol for unexpected server issues is to keep their followers updated on Twitter, posting messages to inform members of the community about possible connection issues and server status. Downtime can occur in FIFA randomly, due to connectivity problems, or planned for updates to gameplay. Below, you can find the most up-to-date server status for EA games, which we monitor regularly for our readers. This should help you stay in the loop and know not only when things are having issues, but when they’re going to be resolved by developers as well. Are EA servers down? (July 28) EA servers are currently working as intended, however, FIFA players have reported a wave of in-match disconnects after the FIFA Title Update #20. The 5GB update didn’t deliver much for fans, but does seem to have broken something behind the scenes. The developers have yet to confirm when this issue will be fixed, though they do seem to be working on a solution. For now, maybe skip that last Ultimate Team game you were planning to do jump in to, unless you want an unfortunate loss. We are seeing reports of disconnecting mid-match in some regions and are actively investigating. Stay tuned for updates in this thread. — EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) July 28, 2020 As is usually the case with this type of article, we will continually update it over time in order to keep players in the know with server problems and the latest. For more information on FIFA 20 news, features, guides and more, follow us on Twitter @UltimateTeamUK. All current FIFA titles will be undergoing scheduled maintenance on April 22 from 6 AM UTC to about 6:30 AM UTC. Match creation will be disabled 30 minutes prior to the maintenance so you don’t experience mid-match interruptions. — EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) April 22, 2020

EA reveals anti-cheat system for FIFA 23 – Dexerto
EA reveals anti-cheat system for FIFA 23 EA SPORTSFIFA 23 marks the first opportunity for PC players to experience next-gen gameplay, and EA didn’t stop there. The developers also announced a long overdue anti-cheat system is coming. Up until now, FIFA has been a less-than-perfect experience on PC. Marred by missing features and hacking problems, most players opt for the console versions. FIFA 23 finally brings PC players into the next-gen era, introducing Hypermotion2 Technology, women’s club teams, and cross-play. For FIFA 22, only PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players experienced next-gen gameplay. Unfortunately, EA still slightly holds back PC players. For instance, FIFA 23’s cross-platform FUT Transfer Market is only restricted to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia users. The Nintendo Switch and PC still have their own Transfer Markets. But, in a surprise showing of love to the PC community, EA announced a new anti-cheat system. EA announces new anti-cheat system for FIFA 23 In a blog post, EA stated, “PC cheat developers have increasingly moved into the kernel, so we need to have kernel-mode protections to ensure fair play and tackle PC cheat developers on an even playing field. “ The EA AntiCheat (EAAC) prevents external files and software from being injected into the game. Any software modifications or community mods will not work. Players responded positively to the announcement. One user said, “this was greatly needed, good addition.” Another player added, “EAAC being kernel level is pretty huge news. That’s a massive plus in terms of anti-cheat capability.” Several players reported previous issues in the FUT 22 Draft mode. Players would be kicked from the match after completing a draft, entering a game, and then receiving a loss. EAAC will hopefully address that issue. A third user responded, “as someone who just got a steam deck and tried to play some draft on 22, this is excellent news! EA only confirmed the anti-cheat system for PC players.

EA finally reveals FIFA 22 gameplay and FUT players can’t decide if they like it – Dexerto
EA finally reveals FIFA 22 gameplay and FUT players can’t decide if they like it EA SPORTSEA SPORTS has finally lifted the lid on FIFA 22 gameplay and their long-promised “overhaul,” and it’s split the FUT community right down the middle — while some players are loving the updates, others are less than impressed. FIFA 22’s gameplay trailer finally dropped on July 29, with a hefty helping of details on the new “HyperMotion” technology unveiled by EA SPORTS in the premiere. So what is HyperMotion? Well, according to EA SPORTS, the new feature “combines advanced 11v11 match capture with machine learning” to brew up — in theory, at least — upgraded FIFA gameplay. It also includes a full animation refresh (the biggest in FIFA history, EA claims) that should “raise responsiveness and intensity” in-game. There were a bunch of other technical terms thrown out in the July 29 trailer: ML-Flow (capture data recording 8.7 million frames), new ‘Tactical AI’ players, “Kinetic Air Battles,” and a nifty “Composed Ball Control” feature. All these jazzy FIFA 22 changes sound interesting, but it’s left the franchise’s player base split — while some are “all in,” others are threatening to quit the series. One star FIFA player who is less than convinced is Kurt, who has been permanently banned from the franchise since early 2020. He praised the early reveal as “incredible,” but added a warning: “When has any pitch notes been bad to read? Words and reality are two very different things when it comes to EA. Time will tell.” It’s a sentiment that’s been echoed around the FIFA fandom. While many are looking forward to the game, and said as much, others are certain FIFA gameplay “won’t change enough” for it to actually matter long-term. Having said that, when has any of these pitch notes been bad to read? Words and reality are 2 very different things when it comes to EA. Will the servers be able to withstand all those new animations, commands and additions? Time will tell — Kurt (@Kurt0411Fifa) July 29, 2021 One fan on Reddit said they were “quietly excited” after the trailer, which was met with immediate vitriol. Others laid the worry on thick: “Are you new?” one replied. “Every year they eliminate the over-powered things… [then] people find the next OP stuff and just abuse it instead”. Another simply wrote: “It’ll be disappointing.” Redditor /u/JamesHowell91 also said, “This sounds really promising, but like every year [I think] there will be a broken mechanic,” before adding that the FIFA servers will “go back to shit” after launch and rule gameplay changes obsolete. Read More: FIFA 22 player ratings: Top 50 predictions – Specific moments in the trailer have also come under fire. At the 2:38 mark, the diving goalkeeper (a digital Edouard Mendy) was dubbed “jaggy” and delayed. FIFA loyalists will be pleased to hear the community isn’t completely devoid of hope for the franchise’s 27th title, however. One big name that came out in its defense was YouTuber Nepenthez, who said he “didn’t get the hate.” “We complain about the things wrong with FIFA, we — at times — literally beg EA to make positive changes. [Then] EA reveals they’ve made changes on many things we’ve asked,” he continued, “it’s met with even more abuse. Let’s celebrate the fact EA are quite clearly working on improving things we’ve moaned about for years.” I don’t get you guys sometimes, man. We complain about the things wrong with FIFA, we at times literally beg EA to make positive changed. EA reveal they’ve made changes on so many things we’ve asked, and it’s met with even more abuse. 🤦♂️ — NepentheZ (@NepentheZ) July 29, 2021 Other stars have voiced similar opinions. ChuBoi, who used to work at EA, said the trailer looked “really good,” while MattHDGamer admitted he was impressed. On Reddit, /u/ClueL3ss92 said: “I’m really excited for this.” FIFA 22 will drop on October 1. For those FUT fans already chomping at the bit after this gameplay reveal, you can get your hands on the 2021 game four days early via the Ultimate Edition. EA SPORTS finally reveal when TOTY is coming out in FIFA 21 – Dexerto
EA SPORTS finally reveal when TOTY is coming out in FIFA 21 EA SPORTSEA SPORTS have confirmed the date on which they’ll reveal FIFA 21’s Team of the Year, and we’ve also got a few clues for when the team should drop into packs as well. Each year, when December comes to an end and we start to look forward to the new year, EA SPORTS start rolling out their Team of the Year promo. Fans are able to vote on giving some of the best players in the game, an even better card with high 90-rated, and multiple 99 overalls being commonplace in TOTY. This year, EA raised some eyebrows with some players who were nominated – most notably, Joselu, Francesco Caputo, and Steve Mandanda. However, the actual team is set to be revealed only a few days after the voting closed. FIFA 21 TOTY release date The voting for TOTY in FIFA 21 closed on January 18, sparking some wild rumors that the team was going to revealed and released later that day. Of course, that was never going to happen. Read More: FIFA 21 FUT Champs Rewards – Instead, EA needs a few days to tally up the millions of votes they’ve received before they reveal the team. That’s why they’ve now announced that the team will be revealed on Friday, January 22. Now, that’s not to say that the team will be revealed and go right into packs. No, some players have suggested that we might have another wait, and they probably won’t be wrong. Typically, in years gone by, the Team of the Year cards have been released in phases. So we’d have goalkeepers first, then defenders, then midfielders, and attackers before the full squad is released. Read More: FIFA 21 Squad Battles rewards – So, it could very well be the case here that while the team is revealed on the 22nd, EA leaves us all salivating over the weekend. They could then release the team a few days later with the phase of drops. That’s purely speculation from some players, and EA might just reveal the team and then put it in packs. Though, that would be different from years gone by. So, we’ll just have to wait and see.

EA reveal how FIFA 21 FUT Champions affects Division Rivals – Dexerto
EA reveal how FIFA 21 FUT Champions affects Division Rivals EA SportsEA have revealed how FIFA 21’s FUT Champions Weekend League will interact with Division Rivals, after changes made to the fan favorite modes left some players confused. FIFA 21’s Ultimate Team will be largely familiar to players of past installments. Division Rivals returns as Ultimate Team’s main weekly entertainment, while FUT Champions Weekend League offers players a chance to measure themselves against the best in the world. However, changes to Rivals means players can only play 30 games per week, before their skill rating is no longer affected. This, understandably, left some fans confused about how FUT Champions games affect Division Rivals and, on October 16, EA provided a detailed explanation. As with previous years, FUT Champions matches will reward 400 Weekly Score in Division Rivals. This year, that boost to Weekly Score will rely on the player not already having completed their 30 matches in Rivals. “In the case above,” EA says, “each Weekend League match consumes one of the maximum 30 Division Rivals matches that count for Weekly Score progress. For players who have already completed 30 or more Division Rivals matches before playing Weekend League, completed Weekend League matches will not contribute to the Weekly Score in Division Rivals.” Essentially, FUT Champs matches will reward 400 Weekly Score provided you’ve not already completed your 30 Rivals games. If you have completed 30 Rivals matches, then FUT Champs games will have no effect. In the case above, each Weekend League match consumes one of the maximum 30 Division Rivals matches that count for Weekly Score progress. (3/9) — EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) October 16, 2020 The news received a mixed response on Twitter, with some criticizing EA for seemingly pushing the two separate modes into one. “What is the point in 30 games I finish my games on a Sunday and there’s no more reason to play for the rest of the week?” one Twitter user said. Their issue appeared to be widespread – in the current system playing all 30 Weekend League matches will mean your 30 Division Rivals matches will be completed as a result of playing FUT Champs. Whether the system changes going forwards remains to be seen, but EA’s clarification of the new system has left some scratching their heads.

EA reveal replacement for canceled TOTW 27 in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team – Dexerto
EA reveal replacement for canceled TOTW 27 in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team EA SPORTSEA SPORTS have revealed that, due to the ongoing global crisis causing a stoppage in football leagues across the world, they will be replacing Team of the Week 27 with something new to keep a new range of content coming to players. The global-scale issue has prevented every major sports league in the world to continue operations, with many on suspended schedules while they attempt to figure out the best solution. Of course, this means that with the likes of the Premier League, Bundesliga and La Liga all out of action, FIFA Ultimate Team players were left wondering what would be done about the weekly Team of the Week cards. Now, EA Sports has revealed what they will be doing to fill in the TOTW27 void – announcing Team of The Week Moments. In their blog post on March 18, EA described as TOTW Moments as “a recurring program that will be based entirely on a historical TOTW release from past FUT titles.” It goes on to say: “All players that will be released will reflect their current teams, and their OVR increase will be in line with their FUT 20 upgrade path,” and used the example of Kyle Walker, who’s 86-rated card from FUT 18 TOTW 28 will be upgraded to 87-rated for this first TOTW Moments iteration. Due to the suspension of play in leagues around the world, Team of the Week Moments will temporarily replace Team of the Week. Read the latest Pitch Notes to find out how TOTW Moments works and what other changes are being made: https://t.co/gekIknio04 pic.twitter.com/dlgpH9t3yF — EA SPORTS FC (@EASPORTSFC) March 18, 2020 This change will continue each week until the regular football seasons resume – though it’s not clear which or how many leagues will need to resume to go back to the standard TOTW format. It’s not clear how exactly they decide which former TOTW will be getting upgrades – be it from that exact week in different years, or entirely random – but it’s interesting to bring former in-form players back and see how they do in FUT 20.

EA responds to FIFA 22 85+ single-player packs glitch – Dexerto
EA responds to FIFA 22 85+ single-player packs glitch EA SportsEA Sports announced that it’s investigating reports of a glitch causing players to not receive their 85+ single-player packs. EA recently promised players an 85-plus pack with three players in it for logging in during the start of the FUTTIES promo. FUTTIES brings the most overpowered cards of the year back into packs for a limited time. The first batch of FUTTIES players brings back some fantastic cards, such as TOTY Messi and Mbappe. FUTTIES is one of the most popular FIFA promos yearly, but it stumbled out of the blocks this year due to a pack glitch. EA addresses FIFA 22 85+ Single Player Pack issue The FIFA Direct Communications team tweeted an update regarding the 85-plus single-player pack issue. One frustrated user responded, “it took you two hours to even just look into it.” A second person added, “how can you make so many mistakes?” FIFA 22 suffered from similar bugs throughout the year. For example, Shapeshifters Stephen El Shaarawy was released with incorrect stats, and a Year in Review Player Pick SBC unintentionally included the Fantasy FUT Christian Eriksen item. The Stephen El Shaarawy mistake was corrected on the same day, but it took three days to reward players impacted by the Eriksen bug. It took six days for EA to fix the EFIGS TOTS Upgrade SBC, so don’t expect any concrete time frame. FIFA players usually plead for compensation for these blunders, but we’ll see what EA does in response. EA stated that they would provide an update when they could.

EA responds to FIFA 23 AcceleRATE issues with lengthy & explosive traits – Dexerto
EA responds to FIFA 23 AcceleRATE issues with lengthy & explosive traits EA SPORTSFIFA 23’s new AcceleRATE feature isn’t working correctly for some player items and chemistry style combinations, and EA has announced an investigation into the issue. FIFA 23’s AcceleRATE system redefines player speed. EA categorizes players into three acceleration types based on height, strength, and agility. Controlled players offer a balanced acceleration, Explosive acceleration features short players with higher agility and lower strength, with players that get off to an explosive start before gradually slowing down. Finally, lengthy players are slow out of the gates but can blow by defenders after a certain distance in full stride, matching to taller players with high strength and low agility. The FIFA 23 community discovered lengthy players such as Erling Haaland and Karim Benzema are some of the most overpowered items in-game. However, the game-changing discovery comes with a catch. FIFA 23 addresses AcceleRATE values issue Some players are naturally lengthy, but there is also a way to change a player’s AcceleRATE trait into lengthy by using an Architect Chemistry Style. In FIFA 23’s first update, EA stated a 14 rating difference between Strength and Agility is needed to change a player’s trait to lengthy. However, the German version of the pitch notes stated cards must have a Strength Rating of 15 points or higher than their Agility rating. EA announced it is looking into the discrepancy. Here are the criteria for lengthy. Strength: greater than or equal to 65 – (Strength – Agility): Greater than or equal to 14 – Acceleration: Greater than or equal to 55 – Height: Greater than or equal to 5’9″ – Here are the criteria for explosive. Agility: Greater than or equal to 65 – (Agility – Strength): Greater than or equal to 15 – Acceleration: Greater than or equal to 74 – Height: Greater than or equal to 5’11” – EA clarified for some players, the (Strength – Agility) number needs to be greater and cannot be equal to 14 for lengthy and vice versa for explosive. However, the developers did not specify which players cannot have an equal (Agility – Strength) number. The science behind FIFA’s AcceleRATE system is still a little murky, but we will provide updates once we better understand its inner workings.

EA responds after FIFA 22 FUT Champions TOTS rewards go missing – Dexerto
EA responds after FIFA 22 FUT Champions TOTS rewards go missing EA SportsEA has responded to FIFA 22 player complaints after high-ranking players in FUT Champions were missing big TOTS rewards. While the company is promising a quick fix, this is now the second missing reward in less than a week that has played riled up. When players place highly in FIFA 22 FUT Champions, they expect the red carpet to be rolled out for them with rewards. However EA SPORTS has missed the boat following Week 41, and the community isn’t too pleased. Any player who placed in Ranks 1-3 in FUT Champions over the weekend are missing big EFIGS (England, France, Italy, Germany, Spain) TOTS rewards with two guaranteed 92+ rated players. The developers have apologized for the issues and promise a fix will be coming out in the coming days. “We are aware that the Champions Finals Rank 1, 2, and 3 Rewards are missing 2x 92+ SS/EFIGS TOTS Player Items,” they said on Twitter. “This issue will be addressed with the upcoming FUT Champions Event and impacted players will receive these Items in the coming days.” However, the furore doesn’t end there for players. Many are still missing a guaranteed 85-rated Player Picks reward from earlier in July, and with the game’s cycle nearing its close they want their powerful cards sooner rather than later. EA SPORTS has remained silent on that issue beyond their July 15 statement, where they also promised the rewards for players as quickly as possible. With FIFA 23 around the corner, every day without these players can feel like a snubbing given the game’s lifespan, so until the issue is resolved the heat is likely to be on full blast.

EA respond to FIFA 22 players affected by account hacks – Dexerto
EA respond to FIFA 22 players affected by account hacks EA SPORTS/FreePikEA SPORTS have responded to the ongoing hacking problem with FIFA 22 accounts, but it might not be the answer that Ultimate Team fans are after. As anyone who has played FIFA Ultimate Team for a few years will know, there are usually a few ‘scams’ and hacks to avoid as people try to take your cards and coins. Though EA have buffed their security over the years, these hacks and scams are still an issue, and some big FIFA 22 players have found themselves falling victim to a new hack where their account is comprised and their coins are taken away. This new ‘hack’ reportedly involves players going to EA Support, starting a live help chat, and looking to change the email of an EA account so that they can get access to the PlayStation or Xbox account they’re targeting. It’s become pretty widespread, with some big-name players falling victim to it. EA statement on FIFA 22 account takeovers Some of the top streamers and traders have lost multi-millions of coins, without much assistance from EA SPORTS on how to rectify things. After speaking with some affected players, Dexerto managed to get a statement from EA on the new ‘hack’, with the video gaming giants urging players to make sure their accounts are as secure as possible. “We’ve been made aware of recent account takeover attempts and are currently investigating,” EA told Dexerto’s David Purcell. https://twitter.com/DavidPurcell96/status/1479410648878616578 The statement might not be the sweeping change that affected players are hoping for, but it seems as if further help will be coming at some point. Though, who knows when that’ll be. As we’ve seen previously, it might not be possible for players to get all, if any, of their lost coins back, but if they’ve lost cards through an account takeover, they should be able to get them back before long. If anything changes, we’ll have updates.

EA respond to majorly bugged FIFA 23 packs giving World Cup players – Dexerto
EA respond to majorly bugged FIFA 23 packs giving World Cup players EA SportsFIFA 23 developers EA Sports have been forced to respond after a major bug rewarded FUT players with FIFA World Cup cards – weeks after the World Cup promo ended. FIFA 23, as every game of its size tends to, has suffered from a host of bugs and glitches affecting the average player’s experience. From strange issues like ICON Didier Drogba appearing in-game as Paolo Maldini to players being unable to claim their World Cup event rewards, there’s been some weird and wonderful issues with EA’s last FIFA title. The problems are naturally frustrating, but become more annoying when they relate to rewards and prizes players have worked hard to unlock. That is the case with another bug that surfaced on January 28, seeing players rewarded for completing Draft objectives with World Cup players – weeks after the World Cup promo ended. A widespread issue, it was highlighted by one Redditor who showed their 81+ x 11 pack filled with World Cup players. The red cards were limited-time content and were removed from the game when the World Cup promo ended in late December. FIFA 23 devs respond after World Cup players appear again The prevalence of the bug prompted a quick response from the devs, who deployed a hotfix late on January 28. EA said: “We have addressed an issue where the “Win 5 FUT Draft” & “Win 10 Online FUT Draft” Objective Rewards contained World Cup Player Items. “Players that incorrectly received World Cup Player Items will receive the correct Items in the coming days. Thanks for your patience.” Some respondents did mock EA’s comments, asking how they’ll get compensation for World Cup cards who do not have other versions in the game. Others, though, were pleased with the rapid turnaround and delved back into FIFA 23. With Future Stars set to be FUT 23’s next promo, there’s still a lot for fans to look forward to.

EA respond to broken FIFA 21 Pro Clubs skill points & player runs – Dexerto
EA respond to broken FIFA 21 Pro Clubs skill points & player runs EA SPORTSEA SPORTS have responded to major issues with FIFA 21’s Pro Clubs including one that is preventing players from earning skill points at the correct speed. [jwplayer zuUQpFp8] As FIFA has evolved over the years, so have some of the most popular modes. FIFA Ultimate Team has done away with things like the collection and tournaments, adding FUT Champs in their place. In the case of Pro Clubs, the changes have affected the way you upgrade your player. Previously, you’d have a book of accomplishments to work towards, but that has been replaced by a skill tree. To upgrade your pro now, in FIFA 21, you need skill points that are awarded after games at certain moments. However, some players have been experiencing issues. Players have been reporting that, while their teammates are receiving skill points with regularity, they’re struggling to get them when they’re supposed to. As a result of many players flagging the issue, EA SPORTS have added it to their new public Trello board and labeled it as being investigated alongside some other problems that players are running into. That also includes another Pro Clubs issue where other user-controlled players can instruct others to make directed runs, which can cause issues if you’re through on goals. As of writing, there is no fix for either issue, but with EA actively investigating them, it might not be all that long before a solution is put out as part of an update. This would likely require a download rather than it just being as part of a server side hotfix. Players will no doubt be hoping that the skill points issue is addressed quicker than the directed runs problem so that their ratings aren’t left behind in the coming weeks and months as other pros get better and better with each passing game.

Will FIFA 20 TOTW be canceled due to Coronavirus? EA respond – Dexerto
Will FIFA 20 TOTW be canceled due to Coronavirus? EA respond EA SPORTSEA SPORTS have released an official statement regarding future Team of the Week selections in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team (FUT), after matches were canceled all around the world due to coronavirus fears but some players are still concerned about FUT Champs. Many countries have moved to ban large gatherings of people, preventing football fans from attending matches and in some cases – such as Arsenal vs Manchester City – games are also being postponed. Premier League fixtures have since been canceled until the beginning of April following measures that put a ban on handshakes before the game to mitigate the risk of any virus spreading – with other major leagues having followed suit. With some players reaching out to the developers on social media, wondering what would happen in terms of TOTW and TOTS selections should leagues make the decision to completely suspend play, EA have moved to somewhat reassure players. On March 12, EA released their 26th TOTW for FIFA 20, following a brief delay. Some fans have since expressed their concerns about how the suspension of major leagues would impact the football title, but have quickly been met with a response. Using their official FIFA Direct Communication Twitter account, the devs tweeted: “We will not be releasing TOTW 27 due to the ongoing suspensions of football leagues around the world. However, it will be replaced with player content available in packs and via FUT Champions Player Picks from next week.” This is an ever-changing situation and one we’re working hard to adapt to as we move forward. We’ll have more information on this and other upcoming content next week. — EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) March 13, 2020 Will FUT Champs be suspended due to Coronavirus? With the majority of major European leagues now in a suspension period, and no Team of The Week to get excited for, should that stop you playing FUT Champs? Well, no. EA have confirmed that there will be new content for FUT Champs players through the red player pick packs that come after the Weekend League has concluded. What that will be, however, remains to be seen. As for further implications, like Team of the Season, it seems that the only logical thing do would be to pick players that have performed well in each league up to the point when matches were suspended. Presumably, should that turn out to be the case, the stream of constant in-form cards being handed to those who are performing well in real life would have to cease at some stage. Though, we’re not at that point of total content shutdown just yet.

EA provides update on missing FIFA 20 Twitch Prime rewards – Dexerto
EA provides update on missing FIFA 20 Twitch Prime rewards EA SportsFIFA 20 players began complaining that they hadn’t received their free Twitch Prime packs at the end of February, and EA has finally responded with a fix for the problem. A free, FIFA 20 Twitch Prime FUT Winter Refresh pack was announced for players who have their EA and Twitch accounts liked on February 19. Free FUT packs are always a sweet deal, but soon after the offer went live, players started complaining they hadn’t received any packs. On March 2, 2020, the @EAHelp Twitter account posted that players who had their Twitch accounts linked and were eligible would be receiving their rewards in-game. “We’ve sent out all missing Twitch Prime rewards to all eligible players,” the company wrote on Twitter. “You’ll get them when you log in to the game.” Despite the announced fix, some users were still reporting they hadn’t received their free pack in the replies to EA, so you may have to log on and see for yourself if the pack actually showed up. We’ve sent out all missing Twitch Prime rewards to all eligible players. You’ll get them when you log in to the game. Thanks again for sticking with us! — EA Help (@EAHelp) March 2, 2020 The pack is well worth picking up for free with a Prime membership, since it’s an 81+ OVR Player Pack including: 1x guaranteed 81+ OVR Item and 4x rare gold player items. Winter Refresh packs should be in your store section as a player pick where you’re able to select from a few of the cards that were released on February 14 as well. It can get quite pricey to kit out your Ultimate squad with packs, which is why the occasional free ones are appreciated by players, when they’re awarded as they’re supposed to be that is. Now that you should ideally have your free Winter Refresh pack, we hope luck is on your side and you end up with a card you’ll be proud to put on your Ultimate Team.

EA “re-training” staff after FIFA 22 account hack scandal – Dexerto
EA “re-training” staff after FIFA 22 account hack scandal EA SPORTSEA SPORTS has finally responded to the FIFA 22 account hack scandal which has seen some players lose millions of coins in Ultimate Team, apologizing for the breach in security. The sports video game giant revealed the results of its internal investigation on January 11, following a week of pressure from the player base and media outlets. In the report, they admitted that hackers took advantage of “human error” in their account takeovers. The hackers used phishing and social engineering methods to “maliciously” take from other members of the community, an official statement reads. EA respond to FIFA 22 account hacks As a result, EA has confirmed that their staff will be re-trained to deal with these issues in the future, and meanwhile, will be contacting those affected in due course in a bid to restore their content. The statement reads: “Over the last few weeks, we’ve been made aware of reports that high-profile player accounts are being targeted for takeover. “Through our initial investigation, we can confirm that a number of accounts have been compromised via phishing techniques. Utilizing threats and other “social engineering” methods, individuals acting maliciously were able to exploit human error within our customer experience team and bypass two-factor authentication to gain access to other player accounts.” Hundreds of messages flooded the Dexerto newsdesk in the first week of January, asking for media outlets to help the campaign for players to have their accounts restored to a pre-hack state. However, EA claims the number of accounts hit by this security breach was far fewer than that. “At this time, we estimate that less than 50 accounts have been taken over using this method. We are currently working to identify rightful account owners to restore access to their accounts, and the content within, and players affected should expect a response from our team shortly. “Our investigation is ongoing as we thoroughly examine every claim of a suspicious email change request and report of a compromised account.” EA set sights on improving security For players, they will be wondering what happens next? The developers have issued a clear plan for how they want to deal with the issue long-term, which includes the following: New EA account administrative and technical safeguards All EA Advisors and individuals who assist with service of EA Accounts are receiving individualized re-training and additional team training, with a specific emphasis on account security practices and the phishing techniques used in this particular instance. – We are implementing additional steps to the account ownership verification process, such as mandatory managerial approval for all email change requests. – Our customer experience software will be updated to better identify suspicious activity, flag at-risk accounts, and further limit the potential for human error in the account update process. – To conclude, their statement says: “We’d like to apologize for the inconvenience and frustration that this has caused, and that we were unable to share additional details in our original communication last week as we conducted a thorough investigation. Thanks to the whole community for your patience as we continue to address the situation and take corrective actions.”

Everything we know about FIFA 21 on PS5 & Xbox Series X/S – Dexerto
Everything we know about FIFA 21 on PS5 & Xbox Series X/S EA SPORTSFIFA 21 has finally been given a next-gen release date for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and will come out a few weeks after the consoles launch. Here’s everything we know so far, including how to use the new Dual Entitlement feature. FIFA 21’s new dual entitlement feature is basically cross-progression between generations of consoles, with “no extra costs.” EA’s new title is expected to arrive a while before all of the next-gen console’s quite vague “holidays” launch window, and this means players won’t have to wait to buy. “For FIFA 21, we’re partnering with Sony and Microsoft to offer you a Dual Entitlement — meaning you won’t need to buy FIFA 21 twice to upgrade your copy of the game from PS4 to PS5, or Xbox One to Xbox Series X,” EA have confirmed. The dual-share system won’t bring everything over from a current-generation console to the 2020 releases, however. FIFA Ultimate Team will be spread across both, as will Volta, but all other modes — including career mode and Pro Clubs — won’t come across in the jump. FIFA 21 next-gen release date EA SPORTS finally announced on October 27 their new release date for FIFA 21 on next-gen console, though it will come quite a way after both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S releases. The news was revealed on Twitter. #FIFA21 is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on December 4th. More info here ➡ https://t.co/TbajtgHml5 pic.twitter.com/gTY0AzyUHY — EA SPORTS FC (@EASPORTSFC) October 27, 2020 PS5 release date FIFA 21 will be coming to PS5 on December 4, via the new Dual Entitlement feature and also will be available in stores. Xbox Series X/S release date Just like the PS5, FIFA 21 will be released on Xbox Series X/S on December 4. How to use new FIFA 21 Dual Entitlement feature The Dual Entitlement feature is super-simple to use. Simply purchase a copy of FIFA 21 on the current-generation console you own, and once you have a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, you’ll have access to the title there too! There are a few catches, of course. You can’t cross sides in the ongoing console battle and still expect to keep your title ownership. That means, no PS4 to XSX, and no X1 to PS5. Each switch has to be from the same manufacturer. If you purchase a physical copy of FIFA 21, you will get given a digital entitlement code for the download once you upgrade. This will be tied to the gaming profile that you use in the original copy, so you don’t have two versions of EA’s bumper 2020 release, unfortunately. There is one bonus part of Dual Entitlement in FIFA 21 too — the feature will work in the same way as cross-progression in other titles. That means you can use your Ultimate Meta and play the same Volta save on both consoles. Remember, only FUT and Volta Football will be coming across with you! If you want to play online seasons, co-op seasons, career mode, and pro clubs, you’ll have to stick to the one console for the lifespan of FIFA 21. Can you play FIFA 21 with backward compatibility? To answer some questions we’ve been seeing, yes, you can play #FIFA21 using backwards compatibility at PS5 and Xbox Series X|S’s launches: https://t.co/42Gukoi1WQ pic.twitter.com/dQ7bcLzqpG — EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) October 27, 2020 FIFA Direct Communication spoke out today answering some questions fans have in regards to backwards capabilities for next-generation consoles. It looks like players are in luck, as yes, it’s been revealed that FIFA 21 will be backwards compatible. The PS4 Pro will see comparable performance to the PS5, Xbox One S to the Xbox Series S, and Xbox One X if playing on the Xbox Series X.

EA makes big promise to FIFA players after ‘EA SPORTS FC’ rebrand – Dexerto
EA makes big promise to FIFA players after ‘EA SPORTS FC’ rebrand EA SPORTSEA SPORTS has officially announced its flagship football video game series, FIFA, will be renamed to EA SPORTS FC. Confirmation comes months after the developers entered a public dispute with footballing body FIFA over the exclusivity of their official licensing. After quotes from an internal meeting with staff were reported, where EA CEO Andrew Wilson claimed the video game was arguably bigger than FIFA itself, the writing has been on the wall for some time. On May 10, the rebrand was rubbed stamped by Cam Weber, Executive Vice President & Group GM, EA SPORTS at Electronic Arts. FIFA series gets new name: EA SPORTS FC In a statement on their website, Electronic Arts revealed a new “independent platform” and promised it would be a turning point for the franchise. “After nearly 30 years of creating genre-defining interactive football experiences, we will soon begin an exciting new era. “Next year, EA SPORTS FC will become the future of football from EA SPORTS. Alongside our 300+ license partners across the sport, we’re ready to take global football experiences to new heights, on behalf of all football fans around the world.” Fans can expect to hear more about EA SPORTS FC in Summer 2023, meaning that the next title is almost definitely going to be named FIFA 23. The statement continues: “Everything you love about our games will be part of EA SPORTS FC – the same great experiences, modes, leagues, tournaments, clubs and athletes will be there. Ultimate Team, Career Mode, Pro Clubs and VOLTA Football will all be there. “Our unique licensing portfolio of more than 19,000+ players, 700+ teams, 100+ stadiums and 30 leagues that we’ve continued to invest in for decades will still be there, uniquely in EA SPORTS FC. That includes exclusive partnerships with the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, the MLS – and more to come.” The last FIFA game in the series, in name only, is promised to be the most expansive ever seen. The developers will press on with a new journey after FIFA 23 has been released, which will include more game modes and FIFA World Cup content than ever before, they say. In addition to that, EA SPORTS promised: “This new independent platform will bring fresh opportunity – to innovate, create and evolve. This is much more than just a change of symbol – as EA SPORTS, we’re committed to ensuring EA SPORTS FC is a symbol of change.”

EA makes promise to FIFA 23 players over Pro Clubs cross-play – Dexerto
EA makes promise to FIFA 23 players over Pro Clubs cross-play EA SPORTSEA SPORTS has responded to the backlash from FIFA 23 Pro Clubs players, who were left devastated by not being involved in their cross-play plans. For the first time in history, a FIFA game will launch with cross-platform play capabilities, meaning those friend groups separated by PlayStation, Xbox, and PC can finally come together in-game. However, the program is so far limited to a set list of game modes. The response comes days after Pro Clubs players penned an open letter to the developers, stating they wanted official word on the plans for the mode. EA responds to Pro Clubs cross-play concerns On August 8, EA rolled out their annual Pitch Notes blog post, detailing everything new coming for the final game of the series. After FIFA 23, it will be rebranded to EA SPORTS FC, as many fans are aware. Rather than kicking off with a list of sweeping changes, the Game Design Director for Pro Clubs and VOLTA Football tackled the point head-on. In a statement from Richard Walz, he said: “I share your desire to see cross-play in Pro Clubs, and understand the frustrations for not seeing it included in the launch of FIFA 23. “While we’re excited with the first steps to bring new cross-play features to FIFA 23, we also recognize what cross-play functionality could mean to the Pro Clubs mode with the potential for improving matchmaking and allowing friends from different platforms of the same generation to play together. “With the scale of such an important feature, our goal is to bring you the best possible experiences. As we look at our cross-play future, we’re focused on matchmaking in Pro Clubs, VOLTA, and FUT Co-op, as well as cross-platform lobby invites and ultimately cross-platform Pro Clubs.” FIFA 23 will release in September 2022, and while it might not have Pro Clubs cross-play from the get-go, this commitment will be enough for some fans. EA just leaked FIFA 23 World Cup mode in-game for Ultimate Team – Dexerto
EA just leaked FIFA 23 World Cup mode in-game for Ultimate Team Twitter: FUT23NewsEA Sports can’t seem to get out of its own way with FIFA 23, making numerous mistakes. The latest blunder allows players to access World Cup mode a month early. A mixture of simple and game-breaking mistakes have plagued FIFA 23’s first few weeks. On October 9, a 25,000-tradeable FUT Hero pack caused huge market losses and gifted massive profits for a select few. Just two days later, EA swapped Rodrigo and Harrison’s faces in the new Dynamic Duo SBC, used the Napoli badge without licensing rights, and awarded improper rewards for the Pre-Season event. Adding insult to injury, EA mistakingly allowed some Playstation users to access the World Cup mode. FIFA 23 players discover FIFA 23 World Cup mode early The 2022 FIFA World Cup begins on November 20 in Qatar. For the first time since FIFA 18, EA announced a World Cup mode coming to the franchise. However, a significant leak revealed details for FIFA 23’s World Cup mode including licensing rights for every World Cup stadium and new World Cup-themed Ultimate Team special cards. FIFA YouTuber FUT Mentor shared a video accessing the FIFA 23 World Cup mode. None of the menu options work, but players can get their first look at the World Cup mode UI and new color scheme. Like any other game exploit, we do not recommend trying this yourself without knowing the risks involved.

EA locks Ahmet Calik’s price in FIFA 22 following his death – Dexerto
EA locks Ahmet Calik’s price in FIFA 22 following his death EA SportsEA Sports announced they’ve locked the price of Turkish footballer Ahmet Calik’s card in FIFA 22 after the player tragically passed away in a car accident. On January 11, the Turkish defender’s club Konyaspor broke the news that Calik had died in a car accident at the age of 27 just outside of Ankara, Turkey. As tributes rolled in, some players decided to take advantage of the tragic news, which prompted an official response from EA. EA locks the price of Calik’s FUT items We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ahmet Çalık. To respectfully honor his legacy, Çalık’s FUT items price ranges will be permanently fixed at their current value. We send our sincerest sympathies to his family and his fans all around the world. — EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) January 11, 2022 After news broke of Calik’s passing, some players started trading his card to take advantage of the increased demand and price. EA quickly stepped in though, announcing they would be locking the price to honor the player’s memory. “To respectfully honor his legacy, Çalık’s FUT items price ranges will be permanently fixed at their current value,” EA announced. “We send our sincerest sympathies to his family and his fans all around the world.” This means the locked price will remain under 10,000 FUT Coins after EA’s actions, with the card costing on average somewhere between 4,000 and 7,000 Coins, depending on the platform.

EA to honor FIFA 23 pricing error listing upcoming title for just 6 cents EA SPORTSSome eagle-eyed FIFA players managed to snag a huge deal on the upcoming FIFA 23 release after the Ultimate Edition was accidentally listed for just six cents on the Epic Games Store. Instead of refunding players though, EA will honor the pricing error. A misplaced decimal point can make all the difference between a $100 listing and a $1 listing. EA has learned that the hard way in India with FIFA 23, accidentally discounting the upcoming game’s Ultimate Edition by 99.98% on the Epic Games Store. Instead of putting the game on sale for 4799 Indian Rupees ($60 USD), they did it for 4.80 INR — which comes in at 6 cents. The Ultimate Edition was 730 times cheaper than the Standard Edition with the error, and word quickly spread about the amazing deal. It wasn’t just limited to Indian players. Anyone could access the deal by changing their Epic Games Store location to India, snagging the final FIFA game (with that branding) for an absolute bargain. In previous cases like this, some game developers have issued refunds and relisted the game for the full price. However in a kind gesture, EA is actually honoring the pricing error and letting those players keep their pre-order for 6 cents. “A few weeks back, we scored a pretty spectacular own-goal when we inadvertently offered FIFA 23 pre-purchase on the Epic Games Store at an incorrect price,” EA told individual players via email, as reported by Sportskeeda. “It was our mistake, and we wanted to let you know that we’ll be honoring all pre-purchases made at that price.” If you wanted to take advantage of this bargain, sadly you’re too late. It’s been listed for the proper 4799 INR now, so no wild discounts to be had. It is a nice present for those who got the game for next to nothing though, as they’ll be able to enjoy all the perks of FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition once the game launches on September 30.

EA fumbles FIFA 22’s new Mbappe promo card – Dexerto
EA fumbles FIFA 22’s new Mbappe promo card EA SportsEA are in hot water with their fans once more after making a mistake with the free Generation card pack awarded to players. FIFA 22 Ultimate Team players that were able to acquire Mbappe were confused to see the position on his card not reflect the advertised one. FIFA 22 has flirted with trouble since its release and Ultimate Team promos have caused some of this. The recent FUT Versus promo incorrectly advertised the event, leading to many players calling it the ‘worst in history.’ Now, the much-advertised Generation promo has arrived, and despite the simplicity of it, EA have managed to award erroneous cards to FIFA FUT fans. To take part in the Generation cards promo, all players had to do was simply play FIFA Ultimate Team and be rewarded with a single pack. In it was one of 6 different players with enhanced cards, apart from Mbappe. Read More: FIFA 22 Winter Wildcard promo – The French PSG forward instead received a downgrade but had the position on his card changed from a striker to a left-winger – his breakthrough position. However, the EA Direct Communication Twitter page had to inform players of a problem. The issue mentioned above was that the Kylian Mbappé Player Item was incorrectly set to a Striker (ST) when he was supposed to be a Left Wing (LW). We are working to update the Next Generation Player Item Pack with the correct version before we re-enable distribution of the pack. — EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) December 15, 2021 They went on to say that anyone who had the ST version of Mbappe will “receive the correct LW version once we have identified the impacted players. This may take some time.” Many Ultimate Team players shared their ST Mbappe card to social media, conclusively showing the problematic card. FIFA22 mistake #64: EA has advertised Mbappe’s Next Generation player card as a LW, however he is a ST in game. pic.twitter.com/SumXXikOJu — EASportsFCMistakes (@AllFifaMistakes) December 15, 2021 We’re not sure when EA is going to make the adjustment to all the incorrect Mbappe promo cards, but it’s best to take advantage whilst you can if you were one of the lucky few who were able to acquire it.

FIFA 21 devs confirm “questionable activity” following EA Gate card selling allegations – Dexerto
FIFA 21 devs confirm “questionable activity” following EA Gate card selling allegations EAEA SPORTS have seriously clamped down on FUT coin and card sellers recently, but one of their own employees has allegedly been caught selling FIFA 21 ICONs. Now, EA Gate has started trending on social media and the company is investigating the scandal. Previously, the developers took measures to ensure that trading outside of their own market was nigh on impossible. First, they removed the old FUT trades to stop people selling cards, then came the price ranges, and the list goes on. In court cases, EA even claimed in-game items could never be sold for real money. The only system to buy things in FIFA 21 and previous games has been to purchase FIFA Points, buy some packs, and try your luck at packing a good player. On March 10, however, some serious allegations have spread across Twitter like wildfire. Based on these accusations, which include screen shots and various evidence, EA SPORTS have put out a statement confirming that they are investigating the matter. EA responds and promises “thorough investigation” Following backlash across social media from fans and partnered content creators alike, EA SPORTS have released their own official response to the situation. This suggests that the evidence is strong enough to be taken seriously, but gives little information about possible suspects within the company. As EA’s FIFA account explains, the developers are cognizant of the allegations being spread and bothered enough to conduct a “thorough investigation.” Confirming that this work is already underway, EA promised that “swift action” of consequences will be delivered and that they will continue updating the FIFA community as the investigation develops. In the first update on their official blog, they confirmed “questionable activity” happened and vowed to “take action” against any employee found guilty. “Earlier this week, we were made aware of suspicious activity relating to highly rated content in FIFA Ultimate Team. We learned that FUT items were granted to individual accounts that did not earn them through gameplay. “It appears that one or more EA accounts, which were either compromised or being used inappropriately by someone within EA, directly entitled items to these individual accounts.” They also promised to remove items and ban plays who acquired them through illicit means. “When our investigation is completed, we will take action against any employee found to have been engaging in this activity. Any items granted through this illicit activity will be removed from the FUT ecosystem and EA will permanently ban any player known to have acquired content through these means.” EA Gate trends over FIFA 21 card selling The hashtag ‘EA Gate’ started trending, as leaked direct messages claim to show a conversation between what is allegedly an EA employee selling Ultimate Team cards for real cash. These can be seen below, in a tweet from FUTArcade. It must be noted that at this stage, nothing has been proven in relation to this case — although things are serious enough to have gotten EA’s attention. In the conversation, they say: “People are paying $2500 for R9 (Ronaldo) Moments and $1000 for Gullit Moments just to get them listed on the market.” Another message reads: “At the moment we have two packages and they are three ICONs or three ICONs plus TOTY.” According to these screenshots, these sales would cost a player $750-1000 of real cash. A special thanks to @RiberaRibell for the picture , he did an amazing work❤️ (continue in the comments)#fut #fifa pic.twitter.com/bJIg2rpWtI— Arcade-Fut (@FutArcade) March 10, 2021 FIFA 21 community reacts A number of FIFA 21 streamers – some of which have been pushing for transparency on potential gambling in FIFA for a while – have come out to condemn the actions. Nepenthez said: “Ultimately it exposes a huge fucking problem with FUT at the moment, to the fact EA employees are (allegedly) having to SELL Icons for people to have a chance of using them. Needs changing.” I know social media is going to have a field day with the memes and jokes, but ultimately it exposes a huge fucking problem with FUT at the moment, to the fact EA employees are (allegedly) having to SELL Icons for people to have a chance of using them. Needs changing. — NepentheZ (@NepentheZ) March 10, 2021 On top of that, streamer Nick28T added: “So we grind/trade/open packs and can’t touch these PIM players but EA employees sell them to people secretly for $1,700?!?! LOL I respect the grind but my god…” EA has said in court that ultimate team items cannot be purchased or sold for real money. If EA employees are actually selling PIMs to people, it could open EA up to legal troubles. — FUT Watch (@FutWatch) March 10, 2021 Buyers coming forward The next development in this rapidly moving story is the moving forward of card buyers, some of which claim deals were concluded on WhatsApp. One deleted tweet said: “I mean, it is true. Paid $1300 for these players on WhatsApp. Don’t know how they do it but it works.” It did have an image attached, but the post has since disappeared. On top of that, Nick posted another tweet with a video attached – which appears to show the card lands in the player’s account as an untradeable item. Again, though, nothing has been proven in relation to an EA employee or developer being behind the potential dealings. Video proof?!? I mean this could just be an EA Dev though or an actual employee? Who knows anymore. It’s all allegations, let’s just hope EA makes a statement on this and stays honest with us. #FUT21 #FIFA21 pic.twitter.com/lzqGMDE5S3 — Nick 🇨🇦 (@Nick28T) March 10, 2021 EA partnered streamer speaks out One of the streamers listed in the EA Game Changers program — Karasuno Mav — has reacted to the allegations, making the case that obtaining ICON cards of this level can actually be difficult through normal means this year. Despite having the coins for a Moments Ronaldo card, there are none on the market to pick up. Touching on how this situation is inherently due to EA’s stranglehold over a market that they created, Mav speaks on how EA helped cause the unsavory behavior currenly being exposed. https://twitter.com/mavricplays/status/1369685484662894597?s=21 “I wanted to talk about the whole ICON ‘black market’ … Now, I don’t agree with it and obviously people buying ICONs is not acceptable, but at the same time, I’m sorry and EA I know you’re not going to want to hear this and I’m a Game Changer, but this is your fault. This is literally your fault, this is all on you.” We will continue to update this story as more information becomes available, particularly from EA regarding their investigation.

EA’s FIFA 19 ePremier League stream numbers questioned after dramatic spike – Dexerto
EA’s FIFA 19 ePremier League stream numbers questioned after dramatic spike EA’s ePremier League for FIFA 19 has been embroiled in controversy as the legitimacy of the competition’s increased viewership numbers on Twitch has been brought under question. What is the FIFA 19 ePremier League? The ePremier League is a 2019 competition that was created by Electronic Arts and the Premier League – the top division of professional soccer in Britain. Each of the 20 Premier League clubs has two players representing them in this competition, one on the Xbox One side and one on the PlayStation 4. The ePremier League is currently in its final stage, with a winner of the entire competition set to be determined in the Grand Final on March 29. ePremier League viewership numbers questioned The ePremier League was being livestreamed on a variety of online platforms, one of which is Twitch. On March 28, esports host and author Paul ‘Redeye’ Chaloner noticed that the viewership numbers on the Twitch stream were oddly highly inconsistent. “The ePremier League stream in Twitch is going through some odd issues with viewers right now,” he tweeted. “It jumped to 60,000, ten seconds later 46,000, one minute later 35,000. It’s all over the place.” While did make sure to not accuse EA of viewbotting their own stream, he was certainly inclined to try and figure out why the numbers were being so wonky. I don’t want to get in to “”fake viewers”

EA finally respond to FIFA 23 Ultimate Team Hero pack error – Dexerto
EA finally respond to FIFA 23 Ultimate Team Hero pack error EA SportsEA have finally broken their silence regarding the mistakenly released FIFA 23 Ultimate Team guaranteed Hero Packs which temporarily crashed the FUT market on October 8. The mistaken release of a tradeable, guaranteed FUT Hero pack in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team has been a major topic in recent days. Although the pack was only live for a few minutes, the market was flooded with incredibly valuable cards acquired for a fraction of their value. There are suspicions that EA purchased all the Heros to make amends for the gaff but, with plenty of players making or losing huge amounts of coins, there have been widespread demands for answers from the devs. While an official EA response from a specific FIFA account has still not materialized, an official EA account has broken the company’s silence on the matter. EA respond following FIFA 23 Ultimate Team Hero pack error When questioned about FIFA Points by a disgruntled player, the official EA Help account responded to offer some answers. On the topic of the FUT Hero pack mistake, the player in question commented that there had been “no news” about “compensation”, to which EA responded: “And the Hero pack issue was also fixed with no plans to offer any make good. -Bob”. No details were provided about the exact form of the “fix”, but we can assume it’s in reference to removing them from the market (although it’s not been confirmed that EA purchased the Hero cards) and removing the packs from the Store. The news that no compensation is anticipated disappointed many players, even if it didn’t come as a particular shock given the days of silence that have followed the controversy. One player said: “EA is a company with zero integrity. How is it possible to make so many monumental mistakes and sweep them under the carpet?” Another commented: “What an absolute joke, a lot of us spend a lot of money on fifa points and you go and make a mistake which causes our players to drop dramatically in value.” Regardless of the ongoing player complaints, EA do not appear to be considering a compensation scheme for Ultimate Team players, whether directly or indirectly affected by the pack’s release.

EA removes FIFA 21 ad selling loot boxes to children after backlash – Dexerto
EA removes FIFA 21 ad selling loot boxes to children after backlash @AllFifaMistakes/TwitterSeptember 30 update (9:30pm PT): EA has pulled the advertisement from all toy magazines, including the one shown in Smyths, promoting buying FIFA points in the lead-up to FIFA 21. They have also apologized for not upholding their “responsibility we take for the experience of our younger players.” “We take very seriously the responsibilities we have when marketing EA games and experiences in channels seen by children,” they told Eurogamer in a statement. Earlier: EA is under fire after users on the internet posted pictures of advertisements for FIFA 21 in-game purchases placed inside a children’s toy magazine. It’s that time of year again, the air is getting cooler, the holidays are fast approaching, and there’s a new FIFA game about to come out on October 6. In the year 2020 it’s not strange at all to see ads for video games amongst other kinds of toys in your usual holiday catalogs (if you don’t already do all your shopping online). However ads for in-game transactions and not the games themselves are becoming more and more common, and people don’t seem to be too thrilled with the idea. On Sept. 26 A Twitter account by the name of AllFifamistakes posted a picture from one of the latest in-store magazines for UK company Smyths Toys. The ad, for FIFA’s popular Ultimate Team mode, lists four steps for players to play FUT, with the second being “use FIFA points to open packs.” Put your two eyes 👀 on step two.#ThisIsntOK pic.twitter.com/IA6HRv2Elf — EASportsFCMistakes (@AllFifaMistakes) September 26, 2020 As any good FUT player knows, FIFA Points are the digital currency that is used specifically for that mode to unlock player packs, which are basically random loot boxes containing player cards and other upgrades. Enough arguments have been made for and against loot boxes being a form of gambling than we could list in a series of articles, but they are one of the most unpopular features in modern-day gaming, and seen as a way for companies to keep cashing in on consumers after the fork out the sticker price just to play the game. The fact that it’s in a toy magazine where a kid will most likely see it and bother his or her parent about buying them FIFA Points for some player packs is what seems to have ticked most people off, with some accusing EA of promoting gambling to their younger fans. However, this isn’t even the first FIFA game to employ such marketing tactics. https://twitter.com/StoneoLFC/status/1309928050520477698?s=20 As you can see above, EA SPORTS has been advertising using FIFA Points to open packs as part of their “four steps to FUT success” for at least a year now, with the exact same wording appearing on adverts for FIFA 20 back around holiday season 2019. Like gambling itself, it doesn’t seem as though loot boxes will be going away any time soon no matter how unpopular they may be, but people obviously aren’t too fond of ads for them being waved under kids’ noses.

EA considering renaming FIFA games in the future – Dexerto
EA considering renaming FIFA games in the future EA SPORTSEA SPORTS have revealed that they are “exploring the idea of renaming their global football games,” meaning FIFA 22 could be one of the last games named after the international governing body of football. EA have worked with FIFA ever since releasing the first game in the franchise, 1993’s FIFA International Soccer, which saw Englishman David Platt and Polish star Piotr Świerczewski as their inaugural cover athletes. Since then, the franchise has grown to be one of the biggest in the world, with modes like FIFA Ultimate Team revolutionizing the game and making FIFA a truly global title — much like the sport itself. Now, though, they’ve announced that the game could be undergoing the significant change to no longer be named FIFA. FIFA 22 released on October 1, 2021, and less than a week later players were already faced with the idea that it may be one of the last FIFA games they play. In a press release posted on October 7, EA said the following: “As we look ahead, we’re also exploring the idea of renaming our global EA SPORTS football games. “This means we’re reviewing our naming rights agreement with FIFA, which is separate from all our other official partnerships and licenses across the football world.” What exactly the end result of this could be remains unclear. Pro Evolution Soccer was always deemed a below-par competitor to FIFA thanks largely to the lack of naming rights the game had. Could FIFA end up the same way if they remove the namesake from their game? Since the naming rights deal with FIFA is “separate” to the game’s other partnerships, presumably the game would retain most of its licenses to leagues, teams and players. It’s unlikely that a decision will be made on this particularly soon, so there’s still a possibility that FIFA 23 will be next.

EA defends FIFA 21 Ultimate Team ‘true price’ after widespread criticism – Dexerto
EA defends FIFA 21 Ultimate Team ‘true price’ after widespread criticism EA SportsEA Sports has come out to defend the prices in FIFA’s Ultimate Team game mode after a viral tweet challenging them sparked discussion in the community. Criticism of prices in FIFA’s Ultimate Team game mode are nothing new, but now after a viral thread from Twitch streamer ScudTV claimed it would take millions of FUT Coins to build the ‘perfect’ team, EA has actually responded. Speaking in an exclusive with Mirror Football, one EA spokesperson defended the company’s practices, saying “While we respect the effort and creativity to map out possible paths to greatness, we challenge the premise of these theories.” They then went on to tell the Mirror that they felt that there were quite a few assumptions made in Scud’s calculations they didn’t agree with. “For example, you can’t accurately calculate how many coins you would earn from trading as that would depend on your skill as a trader,” the company stated. “There are also other aspects of the game that contribute to building your club such as SBCs, Objectives and Draft, which have to be accounted for as well.” FIFA Ultimate Team, and football in general, are first and foremost skill-based games EA continued on, no matter the level of the players on your individual team, they asserted. “FIFA is a game of skill. The skill of the player is the greatest factor in the outcome of matches — a strong player can be successful whether their team is bronze, silver, gold, or a mix of all three,” EA’s spokesperson said. “You don’t need the highest-rated players in the game to win. In the real world, no club has the world’s highest-rated players in each of the 11 positions.” How to invest in a team, EA claimed, is a choice that’s left up to the individual player, just as clubs are run in the real world, and if players wanted to play “against the best” they can simply load up a regular online match. “Some teams build through investment, and that’s a choice for owners, front offices, and managers in real-world sports, just as it’s a choice in EA SPORTS FIFA,” the company stated. “If the premise here is that players want the best players on their team so they can compete online and play against the best, they can do that in FIFA for no investment — you can play as Liverpool or Man City or PSG whenever you like.” https://twitter.com/MavricPlays/status/1374085754666807296?s=20 Folks in the FIFA community didn’t take long to respond, and it was clear they also didn’t exactly see eye to eye with EA on this. “You’re responses to The Mirror are embarrassing, you have basically spat at everyone in this community with your responses. How are these acceptable answers to questions the community’s had for years?” EA gamechanger Karasuno Mav asked in a video response to the news. “You’ve turned around to us and said we can use silver, bronze, and gold players to achieve a win. OK, so show me a pro player that’s going to use a single bronze player in the next tournament.”

EA confirms cross-platform FUT Transfer Market – Dexerto
EA confirms cross-platform FUT Transfer Market EA SPORTSFUT player prices have always varied between Playstation and Xbox. However, for the first time in franchise history, FIFA 23 features a cross-platform Transfer Market. Crossplay functionality has been at the top of FIFA fans’ wish lists for years. Finally, FIFA 23 opens the door to 1v1 modes between PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia users. PS4 and Xbox One players can also play together, but cross-gen play won’t be available. Co-Op Seasons and Pro Clubs are not receiving cross-play functionality, which may upset some FIFA players. A big question mark about cross-play was how the Fifa Ultimate Team Transfer Market would work. EA confirmed in its latest Pitch Notes that FIFA 23 would have a combined FUT transfer market. EA confirms a shared FUT Transfer Market In previous FIFAs, players could only buy and list players for the console they were playing on. EA stated that PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia users share the same FUT Transfer Market. The FUT Transfer Market allows players to buy and sell player items that were either awarded from a pack or previously purchased on the Transfer Market. The FIFA Transfer Market operates similarly to other Ultimate Team game modes, and player prices fluctuate throughout the year. PC and Switch will continue to have their own separate Transfer Markets. EA clarified that the update applies to all players and is not dependent on a player’s cross-play opt-in or out status. In the past, Xbox player items on the FUT Market tended to be slightly cheaper than on Playstation. A shared FUT Transfer Market will increase supply and demand in FIFA 23. It will be interesting to monitor the long-term market impact on player prices.

EA confirms FIFA 23 & Ted Lasso crossover with playable AFC Richmond – Dexerto
EA confirms FIFA 23 & Ted Lasso crossover with playable AFC Richmond Warner Bros., Apple TVEA SPORTS has announced that FIFA 23 and Ted Lasso will finally be coming together for a much-anticipated partnership that will see the show’s beloved team and manager become playable. Fans of both FIFA and Ted Lasso have been begging for the two brands to unite, and thanks to a partnership between Warner Bros. and EA SPORTS — the rumored dream is finally about to become a reality. FIFA 23 is nearly on the horizon, and fans have been hit with a feelgood bombshell as they’ve learned that the Ted Lasso crossover is real. It’s set to be a whopping collaboration that will see the show’s AFC Richmond team become playable in multiple game modes as well as have Ted Lasso himself as a pickable manager in the game. Ted Lasso & AFC Richmond will be playable in FIFA 23 As Ted Lasso’s Dani Rojas always says: “Football is life.” This point will be hammered home in FIFA 23 when the man himself, along with the rest of the AFC Richmond team will be usable across Career Mode, Kick Off, Online Friendlies, and Online Seasons. “I am truly fortunate, and deeply grateful, to have had many special moments in my career thus far, and I consider this experience among the best of them. As long-time fans of EA SPORTS FIFA, having Ted Lasso and the whole AFC Richmond squad incorporated into the newest version of the game is truly a dream come true for myself and the rest of the fellas,” said show star and creator, Jason Sudeikis. “Our cast and crew work tremendously hard on this show, and we are flattered that it resonates with so many folks. We look forward to our fans having the opportunity to play with, play as, and even play against their favorite AFC Richmond characters,” he added. As well as making the team and manager playable elements in FIFA 23, the team’s famous Nelson Road stadium, doubling as Crystal Palace’s Selhurst Park ground, will also feature. EA and Warner Bros. have also confirmed that players can expect plenty of unlockable items pertaining to Ted Lasso in Ultimate Team and Pro Clubs: “This includes Ted Lasso and Coach Beard manager items, AFC Richmond kits and other FUT club and stadium vanity items including badges, flags and more, in addition to Nelson Road Stadium being included in Pro Clubs.” In typical Roy Kent fashion, the character’s cast member, Brett Goldstein, was thrilled to be in the game: “It is so f***ing cool to be in FIFA. I’m not sure this is going to help dispel the CGI rumors but f*** it, totally worth it,” said Emmy Award-winner Brett Goldstein, who plays AFC Richmond player Roy Kent. “I look forward to beating my nephew in a game with me as Roy Kent and him as Jamie Tartt. He’s gonna be furious.” This will likely be music to the ears of many FIFA 23 fans ahead of the game’s release and the title is shaping up to be a big one as EA waves goodbye to the FIFA license. FIFA 23 and Ted Lasso fans are about to be pumped after it was officially announced that the two brands will be coming together.

EA confirm big FIFA 22 news that could change the FUT market forever – Dexerto
EA confirm big FIFA 22 news that could change the FUT market forever EA SPORTSUltimate Team’s FUT market is always a feature players are trying to read – predicting trends, investing in players – but in FIFA 22 there’s going to be a big shakeup of how it works. EA SPORTS have confirmed a number of Ultimate Team features for their upcoming football title already, including new ways to find teammates in Co-Op, a redesigned FUT Champions Weekend League system, and different ways to rank up in Division Rivals. However, as is the case with these Pitch Notes deep dives – posted every year by developers to explain what’s going to be different – some smaller details can have a big impact on the experience. In the case of the FUT market, there’s no doubt that major changes to how it fluctuates are on the way. FIFA 22 FUT market changes coming On the FUT market, players can buy and sell different cards – some of which are players, while others are managers and items. In the case of players, there are routine releases of cards and rewards each week that always give the marketplace a refresh, where prices can change dramatically. Well, in FIFA 22, you might not have to worry as much about that. In a blog post on their official FIFA 22 website, EA confirmed a big change to how FUT Champs rewards are collected. Previously, they were routinely released at the same time every Thursday, just days before players could dive into another Weekend League binge. FIFA 22 FUT Champs rewards changes This year, though, it’s very different. They said: “One of our goals with the introduction of the Play-Offs and Finals was to rebalance the rewards across both competition stages while lowering the overall match requirements. “When you start the Play-Offs, you are competing for the first set of rewards and a chance to qualify for the Finals, where you can further increase your rewards.” “In the Finals, where you finish will decide your additional rewards. If you finish all of your matches in the Finals, you can claim your rewards instantly. If you still have matches to be played, your rewards will be granted at the end of the competition, based on where you finished.” This means that, naturally, not as many of the same cards pulled in the rewards packs for completing a FUT Champions Weekend League set of games will be auctioned at the same time. While there may still be a stronger market during weekends when players decide to switch up their starting XI’s, the usual Thursday crash won’t exist anymore – which is something the community has been asking for. Community reactions A number of avid FIFA 22 players and traders have reacted positively to the change, seen below. 🟠🚨 BREAKING – FUT Champs rewards are INSTANTLY accessible once you hit each rank 🏆 That’s a big change 😳 — Donk (@DonkTrading) August 10, 2021 We don’t have to wait until Thursday for Fut champs rewards and I’m very happy about it 🥰 — FG (@ThisIsFG_) August 10, 2021 Claiming rewards as soon as you finish FUT champs is a huge W 😍 — FUT Rory (@FUT_Rory) August 10, 2021 On the surface, it looks to be a very positive change that reflects the wants and needs of the player base. Whether it works out as they would hope remains to be seen.

EA bosses explain decision to rebrand FIFA franchise after FIFA 23 – Dexerto
EA bosses explain decision to rebrand FIFA franchise after FIFA 23 EA SportsAfter months of speculation, EA finally announced that FIFA 23 will be the last game in the series to feature FIFA branding on the cover, renaming as EA Sports FC going forward. Bosses at the publisher have shed some more light on what led them to the decision. On May 10, the news was officially confirmed that EA are parting ways with the FIFA license after FIFA 23, branding they have held for the better part of 30 years. From 2023 onwards, the hugely successful football series will be called EA Sports FC. While fans will have to adjust to name change, the various licensed leagues, players, and modes are expected to remain untouched. In the wake of such a major announcement, EA bosses have explained to fans why they took the decision to rebrand after nearly three decades. EA CEO on EA Sports FC rebrand In an earnings call reported on by IGN, EA CEO Andrew Wilson elaborated on why EA chose to give up the FIFA license, saying it was done in the name of “being able to deliver experiences that [their] players wanted.” “They told us they wanted more modalities of play. They told us they wanted to see more commercial partners in the game that are representative and authentic to the broad global world of football,” said Wilson. “They’re telling us they want us to move beyond just the core experience and really build out this digital football experience.” Wilson went on to explain that by separating from FIFA, they can tailor the game’s experience to football fans from around the world, whether they follow the Premier League, Bundesliga, or LaLiga. “What we’re focused on right now is building very unique experiences for each of those fans in each of those markets,” he added. Join The Club Learn more July 2023#EASPORTSFCMore details: https://t.co/3fi6YPOH2G pic.twitter.com/75FLzjOapN — EA SPORTS FC (@EASPORTSFC) May 10, 2022 In an interview with the BBC, EA Sports Vice President David Jackson revealed that ending their deal with FIFA wasn’t just about naming rights. Certain constraints had been in place, preventing them from introducing ways of watching and creating content in-game. “Under the licensing conventions that we had agreed with Fifa 10 years ago, there were some restrictions that weren’t going to allow us to be able to build those experiences for players,” Jackson said. The price was another key factor behind the decision. Past reports have suggested that using the FIFA name cost over $1 billion for every four-year World Cup cycle. “Money plays a critical role in most negotiations, but the reason we are doing this is to create the very best experiences we can for both players and partners,” Jackson continued. “As part of that, you consider whether or not your investment in one place is better or worse than an investment in another.” While fans still have another installment with the FIFA license to enjoy, more details on the future with EA Sports FC are set to be revealed in the coming months.

EA cancels FIFA 22 beta test after multiple leaks from creators – Dexerto
EA cancels FIFA 22 beta test after multiple leaks from creators EAJust as FIFA 22 leaks had started to spill onto our timelines, it appears EA SPORTS have pulled the plug on their first beta test of the game – with fans fearing the private beta may now be under threat. FIFA 22 has yet to be revealed, but this has not stopped leaks from surfacing in relation to gameplay and in-game screenshots. On June 23, a notable leaker within the FIFA community revealed an ample amount of features, and it looks like the dev team has taken a stand. While we expected EA’s first major reveal of the game will come at the upcoming EA Play Live set for July 2021, these spilled details have noted a lot of changes coming this year. Now, the entire playtesting beta has been canceled, with fans fearing the worst about the chances of them securing a beta code closer to release. FIFA 22 play-test gets shut down The leaks that surfaced on June 23 noted some significant changes coming to FIFA 22, notable ones include FUT Champs changes and meta information, following on from previous suggestions about the ICONs that may feature in the next installment. Much of these leaks were from KingLangpard on Twitter, who has since posted some potentially daunting news for FIFA fans. From what we understand, a select few content creators were invited to the preview event, with content subject to change. In a follow-up from earlier leaks, they noted that all play-testers have since received an email citing that the play-test beta has been canceled. The FIFA 22 play-test/beta has been cancelled. All play-testers have been emailed about the cancellation https://t.co/hhQUeL9zKJ — FIFA 22 News & Leaks (@KingLangpard) June 23, 2021 While some guessed the shutdown may have been due to server issues, it can be assumed that this is a decisive move by EA following the leaks from creators, and it has stunned play-testers around the community who did not break this embargo. This was also reported by FUTZone on Twitter. They said: “I have confirmation from a playtester, the FIFA 22 Playtest was shut down because of Leaks and Screenshots being shared around on social media. It has nothing to do with bugs or servers etc.” 🛑 I have confirmation from a playtester, the #FIFA22 Playtest was shut down because of Leaks + Screenshots being shared around on social media. This has also brought into question whether or not EA is going to delay or even cancel the private beta for players, to protect more information about the game before it launches this Fall. For now, we will have to wait and see what EA’s next move is, but today’s news is something fans did not expect to see. Now, we follow their next steps closely as this could be a monumental moment in EA’s stance against leaks. EA bans 30k FIFA 22 players for abusing no-loss FUT Champions glitch – Dexerto
EA bans 30k FIFA 22 players for abusing no-loss FUT Champions glitch EA SPORTSIt only took days for the FIFA 22 no-loss FUT Champions glitch to go viral, and now EA SPORTS is taking action against those abusing it. More than 30,000 players have been banned for abusing the glitch — but it won’t be permanent. Every year, someone is bound to find a no-loss FUT Champions glitch to make their run easier. In FIFA 22, it took less than two weeks, with a viral TikTok sharing just how easy the exploit was with millions. However, just as quickly as it took over FUT Champions in FIFA 22, EA has cracked down on it. After fixing the issue on October 16, two days after the TikTok went viral, the developers have since taken further action by banning players who abused it in Ultimate Team. 30,000 players will be suspended for seven days, missing out on this weekend’s FUT Champions run, for abusing the glitch last weekend. However, they won’t face any further sanctions, such as losing their rewards or being banned permanently. “We have identified over 30K active accounts that exploited this issue consistently and have suspended them from FIFA 22 online for 7 days, preventing them from participating in this week’s FUT Champions Finals,” EA said in an October 19 statement. We have identified over 30K active accounts that exploited this issue consistently and have suspended them from FIFA 22 online for 7 days, preventing them from participating in this week’s FUT Champions Finals. Third-party tools for cheating typically land players in trouble, but for abusing easy in-game glitches in FIFA 22, EA is letting players off with a stern warning. If another no-loss FUT Champions glitch pops up in FIFA 22, don’t expect EA to be so forgiving.

EA being sued in France for not labeling FIFA Ultimate Team as gambling – Dexerto
EA being sued in France for not labeling FIFA Ultimate Team as gambling EATwo Paris lawyers have filed lawsuits against Electronic Arts regarding their very popular FIFA video game series, arguing that its Ultimate Team mode should be labeled as a form of gambling. They are representing clients who’ve allegedly spent hundreds of Euros in that mode. The FIFA game series has been a serious moneymaker of EA’s for years, and much of that revenue comes from its wildly popular Ultimate Team mode. In FUT, players earn and buy packs of cards that feature the current and past great football stars, and either plug them into their roster or sell them on an auction-style transfer market. But two lawyers are arguing that FIFA Ultimate Team should be classified as gambling in France, and are taking EA to court over the matter. Karim Morand-Lahouazi and Victor Zagury are arguing on behalf of players they believe are at risk of gambling addiction, according to French sport newspaper L’Équipe, saying that FUT should be labeled as gambling. They are representing a client that has supposedly spent “€600 in five months without ever getting a big player.” Their client says the best player he’s ever acquired is Napoli’s Kostas Monolas, who he claims he doesn’t even know. He said of buying packs: “You quickly become addicted to this game… whenever I buy a pack, I tell myself that this is the last time, but I always do it again. You get so frustrated when you don’t get good enough players that you buy again and again.” The client also says that people he knows have spent €2000 or €3000 on packs, and that he himself has fallen behind on rent payments because of purchasing packs. The lawyers said that “buying packs is nothing more than a bet. It is the logic of a casino that has entered their homes.” The two brought up regulations in countries like The Netherlands and Belgium, where loot boxes can only be opened if earned from gameplay, and cannot be purchased. If similar restrictive laws were passed in France, it could potentially see French players only able to open player packs that they’ve either earned by playing Ultimate Team, or by spending gold they earned by playing. FIFA’s Ultimate Team mode brings in hundreds of millions of dollars globally each month. In the first half of the financial year 2020, it earned $716 million, and that’s up from the year prior. A big portion of that can be attributed to its dedicated legion of content creators, who fill sites like YouTube and Twitch with mass unpacking videos.

EA ban FaZe pro FIFA player Tass from competing after he uses hateful slur in video – Dexerto
EA ban FaZe pro FIFA player Tass from competing after he uses hateful slur in video FaZe Clan pro FIFA player ‘Tass’ has been served a strong punishment for using a slur word in one of his latest YouTube videos. EA Sports, the developers of FIFA 19 and managers of the game’s competitive scene, have suspended Tass from competing in qualifying tournaments and live events after the pro player said homophobic word in a recent video. “I am sorry to anyone I offended with what I said; I hold myself to a higher standard and I failed to live by FaZe and EA’s code of conduct,” he tweeted. “It was a wake up call that I need to be more careful with what I say. The moment in question came when he posted a video showing the rewards he had received for his performance in the previous week’s FIFA Ultimate Team Weekend League. After the same player card kept popping up in each of his player-pick pack rewards, he became frustrated and eventually called the player a “fucking f*g” I am sorry to anyone I offended with what I said, I hold myself to a higher standard & I failed to live by FaZe & EA’s code of conduct. It was a wake up call that I need to be more careful with what I say, I’ll use it as a learning curve moving ahead, I’ll be back competing soon. — Tass (@FaZeTass) November 5, 2018 He would later publish a video following up the announcement of his suspension, in which he explained to his audience and fans that his use of the word was down to pure misunderstanding. “The connotation of that word, from my perspective, until now, was just another word for ‘prick’ or’idiot,” he explained. “Not even 1% of me knew that it had any type of derogatory connotation towards homosexuality at all. If I knew it did, there is no way I’m saying anything like that.” He also said that the terms of his suspension have not yet been revealed, which means that his ban is currently indefinite until EA decide on a set time-table for when he can start competing again. “I know the first thing you’re going to ask is ‘how long?’” he said. “I don’t have the answer. I’ll keep you updated as much as I know, but as of right now I have no idea.” Due to his undefeated 30-0 performance in one of the previous Weekend Leagues, Tass had already qualified for the first major tournament of the competitive season, which he now knows he will not be able to participate in. This is the second major suspension that EA have handed out to a prominent FIFA pro player; ‘Kur0411’ was banned from competing for several months for making continuous negative comments about FIFA 19 and its developers.

EA ban FIFA pro player from competing because of negative comments towards FIFA 19 – Dexerto
EA ban FIFA pro player from competing because of negative comments towards FIFA 19 FIFA pro player Kurt ‘Kurt0411’ Fenech has been banned by EA from competitive after he spoke negatively about the latest edition of the popular game. In a video posted to his official YouTube channel, Kurt0411 announced his two-month ban, saying that it stemmed from negative comments he made about the game. Kurt0411 assured viewers that he’s never broken any rules or done anything out of character, stressing that he was merely speaking from the heart about the game. Having been competing in FIFA for 10 years, with his most recent showing being a third-place finish at the 2018 FIFA eClub World Cup, Kurt0411 is one of the veterans of the scene and has put his all into the game during his tenure as a player. “They have taken away the one thing that, as tough as it can be, I enjoy doing the most,” Kurt0411 said of the ban. “I know a lot of people do this strictly for the money and stuff like that, but for me, it was always about the adrenaline rush.” Kurt0411 spoke in greater detail about the ban on Twitter, alleging that his ban was because he launched “personal attacks” against EA and the creators of FIFA 19. Despite this being the reason given by EA, Kurt0411 feels as though this shouldn’t have been the case since other pro players have been caught on record “wishing cancer upon an opponent” among other threats. In his statement, Kurt0411 doubles down on his criticisms of the game, stressing that “the way the game is right now is unacceptable and it’s been like that for the last several years.” While Kurt0411 admits that EA will likely want to resolve the issue by having him issue an apology, but he says that is something he will not do. “There’s no chance I’m taking back anything I said,” Kurt0411 vowed in his video. “When the freedom of expression is taken away, what is really left?” Kurt0411 concluded both his video and post on Twitter by saying that he is done with competitive FIFA and will be “seeking legal advice and proceeding from there.”

EA are reopening FIFA 19 FUT Champs for one-time-only – Dexerto
EA are reopening FIFA 19 FUT Champs for one-time-only EA SPORTSEA SPORTS is re-opening the FIFA 19 Weekend League for one-time-only in order to give fans one more chance to claim FUT Champs related achievements. Though, nobody is still quite sure why. Weekend League was introduced all the way back in FIFA 17, giving players the chance to grind out games over the weekend in order to pit themselves against the best players and grab exclusive rewards. As the new games have been released, the Weekend League has been altered slightly, but it is still the only place that FIFA players can really compete against the best of the best. However, in an unprecedented change, EA have dropped a curveball on players – reopening the FIFA 19 FUT Champs window while we’re still all playing FIFA 20. The stunning revelation was uncovered by FIFA streamer Bateson87 as he dropped back into the year-old game and was greeted with a welcome message upon starting up Ultimate Team. “Hi FIFA fans, we are re-opening the FUT Champions Weekend League one time only on March 20 at 7:00 am GMT,” the message stated. “The event will run in its usual format and this will be the final chance to get any outstanding Weekend League related achievements.” OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGhttps://t.co/aVlkMSmdmy pic.twitter.com/0IWx9Aj2Rk — bateson87 (@bateson87) March 14, 2020 Opening up the old Weekend League has never been done before in FIFA and fans have quickly questioned, among other things, why they’ve chosen to do. It is unknown why EA have taken the decision to bring back the FIFA 19 version of FUT Champs though there are questions about how players will be able to qualify, what the red player pick rewards would look like after the fact, and if the event will run for the whole weekend. Yet, some fans who jumped back into the game found they could qualify right away due to having the required amount of points saved up. So EA are opening the Fifa 19 WL again next weekend for one weekend, why? — Riggers (@UniqueRiggers) March 14, 2020 https://twitter.com/SoilsumFUT/status/1238812473928691712 https://twitter.com/ukpjthedj/status/1238819373843972098?s=21 As of now, EA has not commented on the in-game message, though streamers and players have flocked to the older title and been greeted with the same note as Bateson. The status of the Weekend League in FIFA 20 will probably be unaffected and continue as normal, though, we’ll have to wait and see if EA confirms details at some point.

EA SPORTS announce FIFA 21 reveal schedule for “upcoming months” – Dexerto
EA SPORTS announce FIFA 21 reveal schedule for “upcoming months” EA SPORTSEA SPORTS have now officially confirmed the prerelease rollout for FIFA 21, including when players will see news on Ultimate Team, Pro Clubs, Career Mode, and which modern modes won’t make it into the next annual release at all. Every year, FIFA undergoes a series of changes ahead of the annual release. These changes and tweaks under the hood are often quite small — Career Mode and Pro Clubs were both all but forgotten last time around — but this time EA has promised bigger revamps. Of course, players can still expect to see Ultimate Team reign supreme as the premier mode for the football sim, but it looks like EA will be doubling down on new changes and features for the rest of the title’s game modes too. The FIFA publishers officially unveiled what modes would be getting changes in FIFA 21 in a tweet on June 17. The list, which EA did warn was “subject to change” right up until the info was actually shared, listed all five FIFA modes. According to the update tweet, we can expect to start seeing new features for the upcoming FIFA release throughout August. There may also be a sneak peek into what the devs have in the pipes for FIFA 21 at EA Play later this week too. 🚨 EA have announced the #FIFA21 reveal schedule for the upcoming months! What are you most excited about besides FUT? pic.twitter.com/q51XzuUSp5 — Dexerto Sports (@DexertoFC) June 17, 2020 For the most part, the list looks pretty stock-standard for the annual FIFA refresh. EA was never going to leave FUT behind, and Volta looks to be sticking around after its debut this year as well. Career Mode and Pro Clubs are also included. Here are all the FIFA game modes that will be getting updates, big or small, when FIFA 21 drops in September this year: FIFA 21 features & modes reveal schedule Overall Gameplay – Career Mode – Volta Football – Pro Clubs – FIFA 21 Ultimate Team – One feature that has been a key part of EA’s footballing title in the past few years that seems absent from the list, however, is The Journey. The storyline mode, first introduced in FIFA 17, tells the story of football prodigy Alex Hunter. FIFA executive producer Aaron McHardy had previously warned fans The Journey would likely only last the length of the “three-year trilogy,” but this does confirm the campaign-style mode is on the chopping block heading into FIFA 21. EA SPORTS have kept their cards tight to their chest about when fans will be able to get their hands on FIFA 21. September is usually when each title is released though. We may learn more in the EA Play live event this week too. EA accidentally leak next FIFA 20 Ultimate Team Icon card – Dexerto
EA accidentally leak next FIFA 20 Ultimate Team Icon card EAEA appear to have accidentally leaked the next Icon card coming to FIFA 20 Ultimate Team as part of the Libertadores DLC of March 2020. Icons are amongst some of the rarest and most valuable players in the game, with some of the greatest players in the history of football being available at the peak of their ability. Among them are the likes of Ronaldo, Ruud Gullit, and Zinedine Zidane, to name just a few. However, the CONMEBOL Libertadores DLC is coming to FIFA 20 on March 3, bringing South America’s premier club competition to the game. And with it, apparently, comes one of South America’s greatest ever talents in the form of a 91-rated Argentinian CAM card. In a tweet posted by EASPORTSFIFA early in the morning of March 3, which was hastily deleted, EA said that “Juan Roman Riquelme joins the FUT Icon squad.” Of course, he’s not actually been announced before and isn’t already available in packs, like the tweet would suggest. However, it has made it very clear what the intention is to bring the hype for Libertadores. Riquelme is, without doubt, a legend of the sport, and many fans will be delighted to see him brought back to life within the game, and players will already be figuring out how best to get him in their squads, how much he’s going to cost and what he can bring to the table. For the most part, his stats look fairly decent, with 93 dribbling and passing as well as 87 shooting, but his speed is really going to throw players off. With just 70 pace, Riquelme isn’t likely to fit the meta very well or be highly-desired by the top players, especially considering his CAM position. However, building a system that fits around Riquelme, allowing him to simply make the plays between the midfield and attacking force, might be a good utilization of his abilities. With the likes of Maradona, Pele, and Zidane all Icons available to be played in the CAM position, it’s not likely Riquelme is going to be the most desired player in his position. However, when he first arrives in packs, you can bet his price will be quite high since he’s new to the game. As the tweet is deleted, we can’t 100% confirm or deny that this will be happening, but it looks to be the case that someone jumped the gun with an announcement. So, you best hope pack luck is on your side when the update drops.

EA adds handy FIFA 20 Ultimate Team feature and players are loving it – Dexerto
EA adds handy FIFA 20 Ultimate Team feature and players are loving it EA SPORTSEA SPORTS might have faced some backlash from the community due to their handling of FIFA 20, but a brand new feature that’s been added to Ultimate Team cards has been met with open arms. The game’s developers have been making changes to the game wherever possible, rolling out patches to bring more content to the game – more recently in the form of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Update #12 – and have seemingly made another interesting tweak to FUT 20 as well. With thousands of Ultimate Team cards to collect, whether that be base players, TOTW, or more special cards, a handy new dropdown in the Player Details section has been positively received by many players, despite the change coming some six months after the title’s release. As seasoned veterans of the game mode will know already, looking at cards in-depth can be much better than just judging them on their six base stats presented on the front of the card, giving players a chance to review exactly what they bring to the table – if you were to buy them. The Player Details bar had previously pulled up three different sets of information: player bio, player details, and attribute details. However, a fourth has been added to that list. The latest addition, as seen in a Reddit post below from LeopoldMashallah, allows players to check a card’s traits whenever they want. This means that FUT club owners can check whether or not, for example, their player has the Outside Foot Shot ability, Injury Prone trait and more. This should be a really useful addition for players looking to exploit specific and original traits that each member of their squad possesses, with one Reddit user in the thread saying: “That is genuinely one of the best things they’ve done all year,” and another stating: “Be thankful for the little things.” For those who don’t know all of the traits available in FIFA 20, we’ve named them all in the full list below. FIFA 20 traits Traits are split into four different types in FIFA 20 – according to EA SPORTS. These are standard, CPU AI, Career Mode and Virtual Pro – so clearly not all included in the game are available in Ultimate Team. Those that are, however, can be found below. Finesse shot – Outside Foot Shot – Power Header – Long Throw-In – Giant Throw-In – Takes Powerful Driven Free-kicks – Swerve – Fancy Passes – Flair – Injury Prone – Flat Kick – Rush Out of Goal – GK: Cautious with Crosses – GK: Comes for Crosses – GK: Save with Foot – GK: Long Thrower – Leadership – One Club Player – Team Player – This new feature will allow you to identify certain abilities and techniques each player has before buying them, which might be the difference between you purchasing one card over another. A small, yet useful, change.

DrErhano Rage Quits on Main Stage at FIFA eWorld Cup 2018 – Dexerto
DrErhano Rage Quits on Main Stage at FIFA eWorld Cup 2018 Two time FIFA eWorld Cup champion, Ethan ‘DrErhano’ Kayman, found himself on the wrong side of the scoreboard and rage quit on competitive FIFA’s biggest stage. When frustration builds as things do not go your way, it is easy to let that anger slip through the cracks and get the best of you. Every gamer has been in those shoes a time or two, but very rarely do we see a professional rage quit on the main stage of an event. More: IRL Streamer Arrested and Given $75,000 Bail After Fake Bomb Donation Alert Caused College Shutdown – DrErhano was only down by one goal when he made his surprisingly early exit. His body language suggested his frustration as he struggled to retain possession of the ball following an early game red card that forced him to play a man down. The aggregate score of the matchup showed the former champion in a two-point deficit, and by the time he quit in the 80th minute, it was unlikely that he could mount a comeback. Fans received the incident with mixed emotions, while some were sympathetic, others were confused as the scoreboard did not indicate a blowout. Tournament officials were not pleased with the reaction and were forced to adhere to tournament regulations forbidding such behavior. The incident occurred in the qualifying rounds for the FIFA eWorld Cup. Unfortunately, for DrErhano, he has been disqualified from the remainder of the event. Gamers will be familiar with teammates and opponents rage quitting now and then, but not as many can say they’ve seen it on the main stage.

Dream Cruises Launches Permanent Esports Center Onboard Luxury Liner – Dexerto
Dream Cruises Launches Permanent Esports Center Onboard Luxury Liner Dream Cruises has unveiled the world’s first permanent esports facility at sea. The luxury cruise line company, which is based in Asia, has created a 1700 square foot venue as part of its VR games centre, the ESC Experience LAB, aboard the 150,000-ton megaship the World Dream. Dream Cruises collaborated with CR1, Hong Kong’s most listened-to radio station, to celebrate the unveiling and the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup by hosting a FIFA 18 match with radio hosts and viewers at sea, which was also streamed live on a 4K LED wall on the cruise ship. Mr. Thatcher Brown, President of Dream Cruises, said: The esports facility will be able to hold a live audience of 80 people and up to 10 players, with any event being streamed live to all guests aboard the ship within its indoor venues, as well as their in-cabin TVs. Professional staff will also be on hand with complimentary workshops and free trial games to help anyone wanting to give it a go learn the basics on a wide range of games from DOTA to Street Fighter, Tekken and more. With esports being added as a medal sport for the 2022 Asian Games and under review by the International Olympics Committee as a potential sport for the 2024 Summer Olympics, Dream Cruises are not the first to join the ever-growing industry. With Hong Kong’s Financial Secretary, Paul Chan Mo-Po, having pledged HK$100 million as part of the 2018-2019 budget to promote esports as a mainstream sport and educate the public about it, could we see more businesses in the area move into the industry?
