YouTuber Deji under fire for allegedly faking more family drama Deji, YouTubePopular YouTuber Deji Olatunji is inciting mass speculation from his fanbase, after posting a video in which he claims to have allegedly been thrown out of the house by his parents. Deji uploaded a short video on February 11, which showed the YouTuber being locked out of his home by his father, who angrily accused Deji of dirtying the house and staying up too late. Deji later uploaded a second video from his car, where he claimed he’d be staying at an AirBnB in a stable while he attempted to patch things up with his family. However, many fans aren’t buying his story, claiming that Deji’s second video was filmed from inside the garage of his home. Additionally, Deji stated that he didn’t “even know if this was a joke anymore” when being locked out of the house, prompting further speculation from his viewerbase that the whole scenario could be a prank. This wouldn’t be the first time Deji has wrangled his family into drama, either; the YouTuber’s parents appeared in a video in early January, claiming that their home was being targeted by angry fans in the midst of Deji’s feud with older brother KSI. KSI was also allegedly kicked out of the house on Christmas day at Deji’s behest, after a series of now-deleted audio recordings of the incident went live on social media. While the two have since squashed their beef, it looks like Deji is encountering an entirely new conflict with his parents – if their feud is even real.

SmellyOctopus posted a video to Twitter on January 8, which showed a claim on his nine-minute livestream from a company called ‘CD Baby’ for allegedly using content owned by music label ‘Global Publishers Canada, Inc.’ Here’s the catch; the YouTuber was using the stream as a means to test his audio equipment, meaning that his voice marked the only audio throughout the entirety of the broadcast. I should probably get that fixed, or, YouTube needs to fix their shit.” This isn’t the first time a YouTuber’s original content has been claimed on copyright grounds, either; popular YouTuber and music artist ‘TheFatRat’ had his own song stricken from the platform by a user named ‘Ramjets,’ due to a bootleg of the track that had been remixed by another artist. ‘TheFatRat’ noted that ‘Ramjets’ had little to no contact information, leading to a frustrating wild goose chase in an attempt to release the claim. Although YouTube eventually settled the issue, other YouTubers have since expressed mass dissatisfaction with the site’s copyright system, calling for a change to the algorithm – which ultimately favors the claimant over the creator. YouTube has since explained the strike against SmellyOctopus’s video as a mistake with the system’s Content ID tool, stating that CD Baby has released the claim. To clarify, this isn’t something that CD Baby initiated — this was a mistake with the Content ID matching tool. YouTube addressed the issue in reply to YouTuber Philip DeFranco’s video on the subject, where they claimed that they have terminated over 400 problematic channels – and even reported certain commenters to the authorities. “In the last 48 hours… we’ve disabled comments on on tens of millions of videos,” YouTube stated. “We’ve also terminated over 400 channels for the comments they’ve left on videos, and reported illegal comments to law enforcement.” YouTuber Matt ‘MattsWhatItIs’ Watson uncovered the issue during a video in mid February, where he noted that he was able to find suggestive videos of young girls within five clicks on the site. That’s not all; Watson also found himself in what he called a ‘wormhole’ of problematic content, which featured a plethora of disturbing comments targeting underage girls featured in the videos. Since Wattson’s video went live, a number of notable companies have halted their ads on the platform altogether, after being made aware that their ads were being featured on such videos. Touchdalight openly admitted to using what he called “incest clickbait” in his thumbnails to get views, claiming that he regularly passes off his 18-year-old friend as his little sister in order to profit from his audience’s apparent disgust. “Yeah, no shit, I use incest clickbait,” the YouTuber stated. “It’s funny for me. I literally pretend my 18-year-old friend is my sister and people literally get triggered about my shit, and I get money and I get views.” Touchdalight went on to call out KEEMSTAR for criticising his content, calling him a “massive pussy” and an “old ugly man” due to his own YouTube show, Drama Alert, where he covers current events within the internet entertainment realm. KEEMSTAR went on to clarify his stance on touchdalight’s content, admitting that while he doesn’t support the attacking of another creator’s channel, he doesn’t understand YouTube’s current drive to delete ‘problematic’ videos while apparently glossing over channels such as touchdalight’s. YouTube takes strict stance against conspiracy videos with new algorithm YouTube published a blog post on January 25 that revealed their new method to shutting down conspiracy content on the platform – by limiting recommendations. In the blog post, YouTube took a hard stance against such videos that deny historical events, promote “miracle cures” for major illnesses, and make false claims about scientific evidence (a la flat-earthers). The content creator uploaded a video to his channel at midnight on June 19, titled “I’m sorry.” In it, he talked about the idea of killing himself inside the first minute, and hasn’t been in contact with friends or family since. Etika went on to discuss the mistakes he believes he has made in the past, but some of the most worrying words from the upload came in the text he attached to it – the video description. “I mislead so many of you, I manipulated, I lied, I shifted blame… I don’t know what awaits me on the other side, but I’m ready to face it,” he wrote in the description. Etika added: “As far as we know, there is no life after death. My time ends now, but if there is a way for me too, I’ll send you all as many blessings as I can from the other side.” The YouTuber admitted that he regrets the “edgy” persona he has built on social media over the years, after controversial statements landed him with bans on Twitch in 2018, and he was even arrested during an Instagram Live video after an anti-semitic Twitter rant earlier this year. Police have been searching for Etika ever since the video was uploaded, according to esports consultant Rod Breslau and YouTuber DoubleA_Charged on Twitter, with his phone reportedly going straight to voicemail for a number of hours. YouTube launches new gaming section and scraps YouTube Gaming app YouTube announced on September 18 that YouTube Gaming will now be enveloped under the main site, as well as scrapping the YouTube Gaming app, which they admit didn’t work as well as planned. According to YouTube, over 200 million people watch gaming related content on their website everyday, but the platform on which they do so is about to change considerably. YouTube Gaming, a ‘standalone’ app that was launched in 2015, was intended to be a separate destination for all these gaming content lovers, but YouTube admits it wasn’t the best, because not everyone fully understood its purpose. Now, the Gaming category will reclaim a spot on the main site and application, “launching a new Gaming destination to give gamers a home on YouTube”, the website says in the announcement. They explain how the new ‘destination’ will work, as it will now personalize the content, and will show “top live games and the latest gaming videos from your subscriptions”. The page itself is somewhat similar to how rival Twitch organizes its own ‘Browse’ page, with each specific game on new game pages. For example if you want to watch Fortnite, you can simply click on the Fortnite page and all related content will be in one place. YouTube Gaming will now also work hard to promote up and coming content creators and streamers, something it’s previous app was failing at. Head of YouTube Gaming, Ryan Wyatt, explained to Polygon: “The problem is, if you didn’t have the app, or you weren’t using the gaming hub to kind of like discover this content, creators weren’t as discoverable.” He even directly credits Twitch with some inspiration, saying, “Twitch does a really good job with game discoverability.” But creator discoverability is also important to YouTube, which is why they are launching the new “On The Rise” section, which will promote a new gaming content creator each week. YouTube is cracking down on “dangerous” Bird Box challenge YouTube have updated their community guidelines to prohibit videos that depict “dangerous or emotionally distressing pranks or challenges” from the site. The changes come in the wake of the ‘Bird Box challenge’, which is named after the Netflix movie of the same name, which sees the protagonists use blindfolds as they attempt to avoid looking at the supernatural entities who kill those that see them. The film sparked the challenge on YouTube and other social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram, where people put on blindfolds and attempt to complete everyday tasks without the use of their sight. The challenges quickly took a dangerous turn, with controversial YouTuber Jake Paul uploading a video that showed him driving a car and walking across a busy street while blindfolded, while a teenager in Utah crashed her car into another vehicle while attempting the stunt. In a statement, YouTube said it was “home to many beloved viral challenges and pranks, like Jimmy Kimmel’s Terrible Christmas Presents prank or the water bottle flip challenge. That said, we’ve always had policies to make sure what’s funny doesn’t cross the linto into being harmful or dangerous. “We’ve updated our external guidelines to make it clear that challenges like the Tide pod challenge or the Fire challenge, that can cause death and/or have caused death in some instances, have no place on YouTube.” The Google-owned site’s new guidelines also extend to pranks, with Youtube stating that they were banning “pranks with a perceived danger or serious physical injury. “We don’t allow pranks that make victims believe they’re in serious physical danger – for example, a home invasion prank or a drive-by shooting prank.”

Now, you can watch the full fight, as well as the undercard of Deji vs Jake Paul, for free – legally, for the first time. The full fight has been uploaded to the official KSIvsLogan YouTube channel, running at just short of an hour total. KSI vs Logan Paul In fact, every single undercard fight is now available to watch for free, all uploaded in high definition on the channel. Deji vs Jake Paul The VOD of the fights will be of particular interest to the fighters themselves, as KSI and Logan Paul have already agreed upon a rematch, set to take place in early 2019. The two will be casting a keen eye over the footage to see what possible weaknesses they can exploit, to avoid another draw in the rematch. Logan Paul also has one eye on a possible UFC debut as well, but he will need to focus on becoming a boxer first, at least capable of taking down KSI. KSI also plans to fight professionally, sticking with boxing. However, whichever of the two lose the rematch, it may well kill their professional fighting ambitions before they really begin.

In a video posted to YouTube on September 7 titled ‘grateful to be alive…’, Ammar recounts the lead-up to his crash, what happened, and even shared footage and phone calls from the immediate aftermath. Ammar said that he was planning on doing his first parachute jump of 2020 in preparation for his “dream stunt” — but all was not quite right when he arrived, saying that as he was walking into the drop zone with his parachute on, someone crashed their landing. Ammar says that based on that and other factors, he decided not to jump that day, getting off the plane and getting in his car to head home. Yes Theory are a group of YouTubers who take on crazy adventures and challenges as part of their content, and frequently travel around the world showing off the amazing locations and incredible people they find along the way. While flying back from Australia, Matt and Thomas decided to attempt a challenge based on the life of Mehran Nasseri, who lived in a French Airport for 18 years. The Yes Theory boys had no intention of living in Changi Airport for that long, they hoped to last four days without being kicked out or arrested, and inside found an airport that was more like a luxury hotel than a departure lounge. After a terrible night’s sleep on the benches for Matt and Thomas, the pair decided to take a look at the amenities this incredible airport had to offer, and found time in their 96 hour stay to get a pump on at the fully-equipped gym. Of course, working out can be strenuous, so Yes Theory decided to recover in the spa, with both boys opting for a professional massage to alleviate the aches and pains that had come from sleeping on hard benches and a gym session, before heading to the cinema to catch a Pirates of the Carribean showing. Named the world’s most luxurious airport for a reason, the lads were stunned to find a swimming pool built on to the side of the terminal, with the pair making use of it, and even ordering themselves lunch which they happily ate at the side of the pool. Their stay in Changi Airport wasn’t all plain sailing though, with both Matt and Thomas concerned that airport security would catch wind of their plan, and eject them from the premises – or even worse, arrest them. Those fears almost become reality at 3:30AM on the morning of day three, when a security guard asked the pair for their passports and boarding passes, only to let them carry on, despite airport rules claiming they could only remain inside for 48 hours. Despite originally refusing to check in to the fancy hotel built into the airport terminal, the YesTheory crew eventually purchased access to two of the nap rooms, finally finding a bed to rest their weary bones. While Changi Airport may have all the fancy amenities you could imagine to make your stay pleasant, Yes Theory were ecstatic to leave Singapore and return to California, but agreed that their run-ins with the airport security did make them feel that airports were safe, and that suspicious behaviour is picked up on and checked.

Alex Mahan – better known as Yandere Dev – is a 35-year-old man who has been working on Yandere Simulator full-time since 2016 after first pitching the idea on 4chan two years prior. Throughout development, Mahan has run into several controversies but the grooming accusations that surfaced in September 2023 were by far the most serious yet. A 16-year-old girl outed him by posting multiple recordings and transcripts of him interacting with her inappropriately. The game developer apologized soon after calling it a “huge f**king mistake,” but by then several of Yandere Simulator’s voice actors and artists had already withdrawn their support. Now Twitch has followed up a month later with its own response. Twitch bans Yandere Dev one month after grooming allegations As confirmed by StreamerBans, Yandere Dev was banned from Twitch on October 30, 2023. This “violation of Twitch’s Community Guidelines or Terms of Service,” follows allegations that the developer groomed a 16-year-old girl in late September. This is the first time the developer has been banned from Twitch although Yandere Simulator itself has been prohibited on the streaming platform since 2016. The length and exact trigger of the ban are unknown to the public although many both in and out of his community can’t help but feel the timing is not a coincidence. Twitch is the first major platform to take action against Yandere Dev with his YouTube, Twitter, and Patreon accounts all still being active. As of October 31, 2023, Yandere Dev is earning over $1,200 USD a month through Patreon alone. Although Mahan addressed the initial allegations he has yet to acknowledge the Twitch ban on either social media or his personal blog. Yandere Dev now has the opportunity to appeal the ban through the platform’s official channels if he believes it was unjust or Twitch’s community guidelines were not broken.

The XSOLEIL star had to get in by any means necessary — so when she couldn’t join the JP branch anymore using her native tongue, she put everything into making EN. The XSOLEIL star, who debuted just a month ago, is a native Japanese speaker. It’d make sense for her to try and join the main Japanese branch of NIJISANJI, but it didn’t pan out that way. She was answering questions from fans on stream, when one asked why she debuted in the EN branch versus the JP branch, using her native language. It was a pretty simple explanation: there wasn’t a clear path for her. “Why am I not in JP and debut in EN instead? There’s a lot more people curious about that compared to what I thought,” she mused, according to a translation. “Since my debut, I’m still lacking in my English skills, and I’m a streamer who has a strong desire for self-approval. “Why this is the case is my life has always been a battle royale, and then while I’m in the middle of it, NIJISANJI JP is having open auditions. In the last two years or so, they’re like ‘we closed our normal format of audition.’” While she did not directly address this, it potentially hints at NIJISANJI relying on their internal Virtual Talent Academy (VTA) program to get new Japanese members, rather than open auditions like they run for other branches. Some creators, especially on Twitch, have deleted their backlog of old content to avoid any DMCA strikes on their channels – to the dismay of many fans. But, in the case of xQc, he had his Twitter account struck down for an old 10-second long clip. The Luminosity Gaming member revealed that he’d had his Twitter account locked on December 29, tweeting out an image that showed the social media platform dishing out their punishment. “DMCA for a year+ old 10s clip from my own stream. Wonderful and well thought out system! Next stop? Jail!” the former Overwatch World Cup MVP captioned his post, in his trademark all caps style, of course. Many fans quickly replied with their concerns about him potentially losing his account and suffering a bigger backlash, with fellow Twitch star Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys saying she’ll see him there. It could well be the case that these strikes have come through false claims – someone just wanting to troll creators – but there’s no way of knowing for certain unless the streamers reveal it themselves. Either way, it can be a long process to get rid of a DMCA strike on your name, so, they’ll have to be careful moving forward.

xQc’s dad chooses favorite female streamer in “unhinged” stream segment Twitch: xQcIn a “unhinged” stream segment, xQc’s dad made a surprise appearance to choose his favorite female streamer. xQc is no stranger to incredibly odd and wacky antics on stream, but this one might take the cake for most “unhinged”, as labeled by viewers. During a normal stream, xQc left his desk to do something off screen, only to appear back dragging an extra chair into his streaming room, The content creator was then quick to introduce his dad as a surprise guest. This isn’t the first time xQc’s dad has appeared on stream, but only briefly, and by surprise. This time however, he stayed on for a whole segment on his stream. xQc would make his dad do something he has done before on stream, a “top female streamers world cup”, which is a bracket where you choose your favorite streamer until there’s one left standing. It’s quite clear xQc felt a slew of emotions as his dad picked his favorite streamers, some of which he personally knows. From embarrassment, shock, and even agreeing with his pick of Sasha Grey because of her “attitude”. Papa xQc interestingly immediately picked Amouranth when given the option, saying, “come on are you f***ing serious? Amouranth!” xQc quetions why, which he responds, “for a thousand reasons!” Eventually the massive bracket came down to a “grand final” of what is arguably the two queens of Twitch, Amouranth and Pokimane, which Poki won. The reason why? Because she is a fellow Canadian. Naturally, viewers on Reddit labeled it as one of the most insane things xQc has ever done on stream. With a comment aptly describing it, “doing this s*** with your dad, on stream, is unhinged.” Or, as another Redditor humorously put it, “least horny Quebecois.”

While playing a round, the French Canadian streamer landed a beautifully executed one-tap onto an opponent. Even his squadmates were impressed with the Pog-inducing shot. After getting a call that the next target was hiding behind a truck, the former Overwatch pro went full-Rambo and charged at him only to get obliterated and the game to declare “terrorists win”. “Yea, behind the truck, dude,” he sighed before deciding to mime out how most CS:GO players fire their weapons in the game. “Most players,” he to indicate who he was impersonating. The 23-year-old then pretended to fire a gun, but with uncontrollable spread resulting in a change of weapons mid-firefight. “Me, I’m top-tier warlord, dude.” Felix then acted out his last CS:GO kill where he aimed steadily, lined up the shot and one-tapped the target, including the reaction of the player he shot. xQc fell back into his chair, pretending to have been shot in the face. The actor did such a good job, his headset even fell off in the process making the whole thing just a bit funnier. “One tap, dude!” the increasingly animated Lengyel added. While the Quebec broadcaster has been improving at CS:GO and can hold his own, but he still has a lot of work to do. In an August 25 stream, xQc had a comically bad round with his team going to a 5v3 to a 3v2 in just seconds. With xQc wanting to take a bit of a break from Overwatch citing the state of the game, it will be fun to watch how his CS:GO game progresses. Assuming he gets the right teammates.

As far as stream snipers go, xQc has got to be one of the most affected on Twitch, but that’s almost to be expected when you’re one of the most popular names on the platform. No matter what he’s playing or the attempts he makes to keep himself hidden, xQc will always have multiple snipers coming after him and hunting him down in-game. Now, it turns out even Mario Kart isn’t a safe space for him, as he found out in hilarious fashion during his January 21 stream. While streaming the iconic animated racing game, the Canadian star was becoming increasingly suspicious of how many stream snipers he was being swarmed by throughout the races. So, before a race started, he took it upon himself to speak to his stream and ask them not to move forward if they’re stream sniping. “Guys, Hold B, so you at least don’t go forward,” he asked of those who were listening. Then, as it started up, he reiterated the point once more, urging snipers to not go forward. Expecting maybe a small handful of the other players to stay still, xQc switched to the back camera — and when the race started, eight of the 11 opposing players started hopping around him at the start line, clearly having fun at his expense. Those viewers regularly roast xQc with their donation and subscription messages but they’re clearly fans in the first place, otherwise, they wouldn’t be there. But, when the streamer tries to use them for good, not all of them want to follow his lead. 550During his July 5 stream, xQc had been watching videos with his fans when he was given a link to a mini-documentary on the ‘story of Pokimane‘ – a fellow popular streamer with over three million followers, but who has also experienced controversy in the past. After watching the 17-minute video, the streamer couldn’t help but notice the like/dislike ratio was only a small advantage in the way of likes. Yet, after some chatters told him to refresh the page, the dislikes quickly took the lead as xQc’s viewers bombarded the video with even more ‘thumbs down’. Surprised by the ratio, he hatched a plan to get his viewers to ‘help’ Pokimane by adding a ton of likes. Addressing his viewers, xQc said: “You can do whatever you want in your free time, ok, you can revert your choice or cancel it – everybody, go to the video right now. Let’s see if we can make a positive difference on the world.” However, with this being xQc, things rarely go to plan as his chat decided to turn against him and add thousands more dislikes. Disappointed with how his viewers responded, the former Overwatch League pro returned to the video a few minutes to see if they had changed their minds in the meantime. Of course, they hadn’t, and things only got worse as the dislikes took a healthy lead. To make matters worse, xQc also noticed that his viewers had begun upvoting negative comments too. EsfandTV has been playing the heck out of WoW Classic since release like a true pro, but xQc has only dabbled in the re-release of the online sensation since it came out in August, though he has logged many hours in WoW before. For some reason a lot of players like to give streamers free money and equipment in WoW Classic (and other MMORPGs) so Felix decided to take advantage of this to make his buddy EsfandTV some quick cash. xQc’s gold farming backfires At first, xQc seems to be rolling in dough, getting 50 gold for free in a trade from one of Esfand’s generous fans. Just after clicking the button to accept the trade, xQc accidentally also reset Esfand’s talent points on his Paladin, with the 50 gold he just made. After trying to run out of the room and escape his mistake, xQc returned and simply stared at the screen, trying to come up with a solution. Luckily, another Esfand fan quickly came in and offered another trade of 10 gold, which made the whole thing work out, from xQc’s point of view at least. “Hey boys, boys, that’s what I call: profit,” Felix proclaimed before doing his best impression of a Booty Bay banker (AKA transforming into El Goblino) and scampering away. Will Esfand be able to recover? Even though it costs gold to reset talent points in WoW Classic, Esfand should be able to reassign his points and fill out his talent tree to where it was before fairly easily. The Canadian streamer, who is best known for his professional Overwatch exploits, was playing the popular pirate MMO ATLAS when he came up with the crafty idea. “We’re going to wait until I get a thumbnail, so that everybody can see it. Ready?” he said. The 23-year-old then started to clench his fist and hold that in the air for a few seconds, before pulling on his own hair, pretending to be shouting at the game he was playing and pulling shocked faces for a few seconds in a hilarious clip. His idea was that people would be more likely to click his stream if they could see him looking to be doing something crazy, like smashing up his desk, rather than just a typical thumbnail playing a game. Twitch user gillslmao clipped the moment for other people to watch and named it “clickbait”. xQc has been trying out a number of games since he stopped playing Overwatch in November, after his account was suspended for a second time. One game that he dabbled with was Pokemon: Let’s GO, Pikachu!, but that didn’t last long after he had made a costly error. After streaming for 10 hours, he failed in his pursuit of catching Snorlax and shut down the Nintendo Switch software, only to reboot it and realize that he had not saved his progress. These fake thumbnails would be fitting for moments like that, though, as xQc has been known for having some of the best rages in the industry.

Myth’s perfect impression During a stream on August 24, Myth was playing Fortnite, when he launched into his impression of the Canadian. “We’re going to be playing fuckin’ Fortnite, dude. I’m ready to have a really good stream today boys!” He also captured the culture that is prevalent in xQc’s chat. “Everybody please, fuckin’ Pepega Clap in the chat dude. Let’s go boys, let’s get crazy today dude!” Myth nailed down his body language as well, when he mirrored his scream “well!” as he motioned his hands in the same way xQc does when ranting. xQc reacts to Myth’s impression The Overwatch pro then played Myth’s impression of him during his own stream on August 24, and shared a wholesome reaction to it. Smiling, the Canadian pro was amused at how accurate it was and laughed as the Fortnite pro nailed the intricacies of his voice. When Myth brought up the Pepega Clap, xQc broke out into laughter. “That’s actually good!” he smiled. This isn’t the first time Myth has impersonated the Canadian streamer. Earlier in June 2019, the Fortnite player made his first attempt at doing an impression of the Overwatch pro. xQc warns viewers to “get out” of MrBeast’s videos before the endgame: “So scripted” YouTube: xQc ClipsAmidst recent accusations of lying and manipulating footage, MrBeast can’t seem to escape the heat with xQc now claiming his videos are “scripted”. James ‘Jimmy’ Donaldson, known online as MrBeast, has been in hot water after fellow YouTuber and content creator Rosanna Pansino accused the philanthropist of falsely editing his videos. According to Pansino, MrBeast manipulated the footage in Creator Games 3 in order to misrepresent the winners. The accusations have caused a wave of viewers and fans to take sides in defense of their favorite creators. Now, streamer superstar xQc is weighing in on the drama, advising his chat to “get out” if they ever compete in a MrBeast video and make it to the “endgame.” Reacting to one of MrBeast’s latest uploads, xQc offered his warning once the final stretch of the challenge came about. “Chat… Guys, if you get selected to be in MrBeast’s video, I got you,” xQc began, before sharing with viewers his “number one tip.” “If you can get out, get out. YouTube powerbrokers have announced they will be removing the website’s controversial “dislike” button in a bid to stop “dislike attacks” and harassment. The Google-owned platform has toyed with the idea of hiding or removing the downvote button for some time now, first floating the idea in 2018 — coincidentally, the same year their infamous YouTube Rewind video went on to become the site’s most-disliked video ever. The internet has been split over the recent YouTube decision, with many claiming it’s important to have video dislike counts be public. Among this side of the rift is popular Twitch star xQc who claims the move is a “moronic mistake.” According to the star Twitch streamer, the decision “doesn’t make any sense,” especially when considering how YouTube viewers actually use the dislike buttons. “This just isn’t it,” the French-Canadian star said after seeing YouTube’s announcement during his Nov. 10 stream. “If you stand for dogsh*t values, you’re an asshat, you say bullsh*t in your videos, why should you [get likes]?” According to xQc, the long-standing like-dislike system has become a vital part of the YouTube ecosystem, with many viewers relying on the counts. “If your views are dumb, and you’re a dumbass, the dislike counts tell people you’re a dumbass. Equally, all good things get likes and everyone can see that you approve. “If you take away this system, anyone can come in, and say anything. Whenever a corporation or brand comes out with a disgusting, trash video that is full of evil things that they’re promoting, they’ll still have a perfect 100% like ratio. “I don’t want to be over the top, but it’s wrong. xQc warns trolls after multiple swattings on his birthday: ‘Police won’t f**k around’ Instagram/xQcTwitch and Kick streamer Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel has issued a stark warning to trolls swatting him and sending the police to his old houses for a birthday surprise. xQc celebrated his 28th birthday on November 12, but the celebrations were in the crosshairs of trolls who tried to disrupt the festivities by getting him swatted. While the former Overwatch League pro wasn’t affected by the swatting attempts, those who live at his old residences were – and it turns out this isn’t the first year that someone tried pulling this stunt. During a recent broadcast, the French Canadian addressed those swatting him directly, warning that the police were not going to mess around and they would be held accountable for putting lives at risk. xQc urges viewers to stop swatting him on his birthday In a plea to the trolls swatting him, xQc explained that their attempts were not going as planned, because he no longer lives at the addresses being swatted. “This is the second year in a row that somebody tries to swat me on my birthday. You need to understand I don’t live there anymore,” he explained. “You’re sending the police to houses that I don’t live in. You’re endangering a bunch of people!” Lengyel continued on, saying how it was in the interest of everyone if the swattings stopped, warning that there would be serious consequences to those calling the cops on him. “For your own sake, it’s really bad. If someone happens it’s really sad. On top of that, the authorities are not gonna f**k around if something happens. I’m just telling you. This is loser behavior,” he slammed. The appearance of armed police on xQc’s stream might have appeared to be a “swatting” incident, but was in fact just the result of a noise complaint from his neighbours. “Swatting” is the act of calling the police and claiming that a highly dangerous situation is unfolding at a particular location. This results in a SWAT team responding accordingly, arriving at the location in question armed and expecting to deal with such a scenario. While the supposed danger might originally be invented, swatting itself can create highly dangerous scenarios – once armed police are in the mindset of potentially having to use extreme force to handle the situation, it only takes a small misunderstanding for things to turn deadly. Several of the people involved are now facing charges. In this case, however, it appears the appearance of the police was instead due to a noise complaint. A couple of the officers were caught on xQc’s stream, which was still live. This isn’t the first time police have showed up during xQc’s stream, with a similar incident occurring on May 16. Fortunately for xQc, the two incidents of police arriving at his apartment both resulted from noise complaints, rather than something more sinister.

Gaining his popularity from being a professional Overwatch player, xQc now showcases a wide variety of games like GTA RP, Jump King, and more to his 9.2 million followers on Twitch. With such a massive following, he’s formed quite the devoted community called the ‘Juicers.’ The xQc waiting room is growing rapidly Some of his fans have taken things up a notch by creating a Twitch channel that allows them to hang out on the platform while the creator is offline. Created at the end of 2020, the xQcOW_waiting_room live streams didn’t seem to start gaining traction until January 2021 when it saw its first few viewers, according to analytics website sullygnome. Starting their stream as soon as xQc goes offline and presumably ending it when he goes online, the channel rapidly grew in popularity after its first couple of months. Starting by playing the popular interactive game Marbles on Stream, it saw roughly 350 average viewers during its peak stream in February 2021 compared to less than 50 viewers the month before. By the end of April, the unknown channel creator decided to change things up a bit and switch the stream to Just Chatting, likely making the change to the sound of rain soundtrack that it is now. Since experiencing a huge spike at the beginning of 2021, the waiting room has amassed an insane 37,000 followers. With that number, it has achieved over 870,000 views, over 380,000 hours watched, and almost 6,000 hours streamed on the platform. He can regularly be found raging at other players and reviewing memes with fans, providing plenty of entertainment with both. One meme in particular, the ‘To Catch a Predator’ with Chris Hansen, has come up on-stream during Lengyel’s reactions to YouTube videos, prompting some fans to shell out money for a personalized shout-out from the television host to xQc. During his August 22 stream, xQc had been browsing his own subreddit and discussing memes with viewers when he stumbled across one that stated that Chris Hansen had a ‘message’ for him. “xQc and chat, always remember to follow your dreams and get the juice,” he stated in a video, leaving the streamer with a grin on his face. Yet, Hansen wasn’t done there. “And weebs, why don’t you have a seat right over there,” referencing his iconic meme and promoting xQc to break out into a fit of laughter. Tyler1 is somewhat infamous for his rants directed towards League of Legends developers Riot Games, so xQc took one of his classic rants an repurposed it to highlight everything he thinks is wrong with Overwatch currently. Blizzard have been frequently adding new Heroes, frequent patches and updates, but some persistent issues with ranked play and matchmaking also continue. Balance has been a major point of contention, as, like League of Legends, adding a new Hero can often result in ruining balance, or changing the ‘meta’ of the game too drastically. Recent additions such as Brigette or the new ‘Storm Arrow’ for Hanzo are not favorites of xQc, which he highlights with the use of Tyler1’s incredible rage. As Tyler1 becomes more and more incensed in the clip, xQc continues to lay out everything he thinks is currently wrong with Overwatch all the way down to ranked play – as Tyler1 shouts “I can’t quit!” Unfortunately, despite the popularity of Tyler1 and his often enraged complaining about Riot and League of Legends, it has done little to have his views heard. If anything, it has resulted in more dismissive treatment from the developers. xQc equally doesn’t necessarily have a good relationship with Blizzard, after he was given severe punishment for supposed infractions during his time in the Overwatch League, which eventually resulted in him being released from the Dallas Fuel. It doesn’t look like he wants to make attempts to get back in their good books anytime soon.

xQc unleashes on trash talking teammate during Rainbow Six match Former professional Overwatch player Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel is an experienced trash talker himself, but when the tables are turned, the popular streamer knows how to deal with an in-game troll. xQc shifted to ‘variety’ streaming after his Overwatch account was suspended, meaning he has been playing all manner of games including CS:GO, Fortnite and now Rainbow 6 Siege. Like Overwatch, Siege is a team-based competitive shooter, where players are expected to communicate as a team in an effort to win ranked matches and progress to higher levels. Unfortunately, as is the case with most online games, not all of these interactions are positive, but xQc is well versed in voice chat ‘trash talk’. After his teammate, “Chuck3742”, calls Lengyel out for only having a single kill after three rounds, the streamer made him instantly regret his decision to speak out. Checking Chuck’s K/D ratio, which sat at a measly 0.1, xQc launched into a tirade, which was so perfectly executed it almost sounded rehearsed. “You have 0.1 K/D in ranked – you get a kill every time you die, 10 TIMES!” xQc shouted, continuing “you should not only uninstall your game, you should give your computer to a fucking local shelter or library!” It is these outbursts which have made xQc the popular streamer that he is, even after moving away from his primary game on Overwatch. His following continues to grow, showing viewers are there for his antics, rather than just the game he is playing. His actions have sometimes got him into trouble in the past however, with his most recent suspension for Overwatch believed to be for toxic behavior, according to xQc himself. Rainbow 6 Siege has possibly the strictest rules around toxicity, particularly for in-game chat. As of July 2018, Ubisoft is automatically banning players that use certain words in public chat channels, focusing mainly on racist terms.

A day later, he posted another update in the form of a video where he explained he had tested positive twice and would report back with more updates. “Now, I’m getting absolutely obliterated. Breathing is fine, I have a headache, all my muscles hurt, it feels like getting attacked in the muscles,” xQc stated. Then, on October 21, xQc reported he had gotten over his initial illness but was now suffering from a double ear infection. He stated that both sides of his face were swollen and that it hurt to talk, chew, and lay down. xQc reports ear infection symptoms worsen Two days later, xQc would take to Twitter once more to provide yet another disheartening update. IDK WTF IS GOING ON I’M GONNA SNAP.” Fellow Twitch streamer Pokimane advised he visit an ear, nose, and throat doctor, and a large number of his fans voiced their concerns for his health. News of xQc’s illness comes during a wave of streamers and viewers reporting their own illnesses they contracted during TwitchCon despite regulations being put in place in an attempt to keep attendees safe.

Because it’s the end of the year and lists for the top streamers of 2020 are coming out, his chat urged him to search for exactly that. “Most subbed streamer? Who cares, subs are temporary, sub count can go up and down, it can go away,” xQc said in response. “It doesn’t define what you do or who you are. People who attach their personality, and their ego, and their confidence to some random digit number that goes up and down — because they need some random pixels to feel better.” Success doesn’t come without its struggles as they say, and the former Overwatch League pro found that out first hand when he finally gave in and did the search for his chat. Sure enough, his name popped right up at the top of the Google search results, but instead of a picture of himself, it was accompanied by a photo of Ninja, which is very ironic since that’s who Felix has been compared to over the years by his merciless audience. He has, naturally, taken to his stream and social media channels to defend himself anytime trouble finds him. However, it’s his responses to a new bit of backlash that is creating more problems. xQc under fire for Twitter responses and flexing wealth The streaming star has come under fire after images of videos of him reacting to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine were posted on social media. Those videos have since been removed from YouTube, but xQc responded to one of the viral tweets criticizing him by posting a photo of him sitting with a suitcase full of money, captioned: “HUH?” His strange flexs didn’t end there, however. As further criticism came his way, xQc responded to another tweet with a photo of a diamond-studded watch, and another of him holding over $200,000 in casino chips. “27-year-old man flexing his wealth when met with criticism,” said one. “Do you have a PR manager? Does he hate you?” another asked. “This is the worst reply I’ve ever seen, why would post this,” quizzed another. “Omg, this is so tone deaf, why would you reply with this,” another commented. When Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel opened his live on stream, though, he probably didn’t expect to be trolled in quite the fashion he did over his number one song. xQc’s number one song on Spotify Wrapped While going through his custom Spotify Wrapped video, it finally got to the part where it listed his most popular songs. “You played 2,754 songs in 2023, and there was one that really connected,” the message read — as Blink 182’s iconic 2003 hit ‘I Miss You’ played in the background. It is a song that singer Tom Delonge has said is about “the vulnerability and kind of heart-wrenching pain you feel when you’re in love and when you’re a guy and you’re trying to tell a girl, ‘Don’t waste your time coming and talking to me because, in my head at least, you probably already gave me up a long time ago.’” His chat immediately started spamming “emo” as xQc made a face at the camera, while others said it “exposed” him or that he’s “not beating the allegations.” Other comments suggested that it’s kind of fitting after the “year xQc had,” perhaps referencing his unceremonious split from ex-girlfriend Adept, which has been a long and drawn-out commotion that seems not to ever fully die down. However, that didn’t stop him from shooting his shot with prominent actress and music artist Selena Gomez, who is currently in the middle of a viral feud with Hailey Beiber. JustAMinx dares xQc to slide into Selena Gomez’s DMs xQc opened up about his attempt during a March 24 broadcast, where he claimed he was dared to take a chance on his celebrity crush by fellow streamer JustAMinx. “I was on a call with Minx, and she convinced me — I told her it wouldn’t work — but she convinced me to DM Selena Gomez, and I f*cking did it,” he revealed. Assuming this was on Instagram, xQc slid into Selena’s DMs — but soon discovered that her account wasn’t open to receiving messages from anyone. “It just said, ‘This account does not accept DMs.’ And I was like, ‘Ah, man, f*ck you, man.’ Bro… f*ck you guys, man!” he laughingly told off his chat, who wasted no time poking fun at him for getting his hopes up. xQc is far from the only Twitch streamer to try his hand at getting the attention of their celebrity crush. Kai Cenat — who took home Streamer of the Year at this year’s Streamer Awards — has been pining after SZA for some time now. Unlike xQc, however, SZA actually took notice of Kai, and even said she wanted to appear on one of his streams but was too “scared” to do it.

While xQc comes from an FPS background, and played at a top-level, very few players have the laser-like accuracy and reaction times as Tenz possesses. xQc tries to be TenZ xQc watched a clip on his stream of Valorant pro-TenZ, who currently plays for Sentinels, practicing in the free aim trainer, Aim Lab. TenZ, being one of the best Valorant players on the planet, shows incredible accuracy in the clip nailing every shot. xQc seemed to take this as a challenge and loaded up his own Aim Lab to try and match the Sentinels player. He shook his hands together and said “F**k this guy”, preparing to show his stream exactly how good he still is at aiming while firing up the Gridshot challenge. As soon a the challenge began, though, xQc was flailing his mouse around the screen, missing every single shot cracking up with laughter. It doesn’t look like xQc will be getting back into professional Overwatch any time soon, as his pro aiming days look well behind him. At least it was all in good fun, as it seems nearly impossible to match TenZ’s accuracy. Meanwhile, Tenz has encountered his own problems on stream, as he said he was ‘scammed’ but the Valorant store after paying for the new butterfly knife.

On March 24 xQc was dared by JustAMinx to direct message Selena Gomez which he eventually did. As of now, it remains a mystery if the singer/actress replied to his message. This event became quite a cherished moment in his community, so the streamer decided to do it again after being encouraged by the lyrics of Ice Spice’s “Princess Diana.” X decided to use ChatGPT to formulate a great opening message but decided to take matters into his own hands after seeing what the artificial intelligence proposed. Is that bad,” asked xQc after sending the message. Of his 30k+ subscribers, 16.7k are via Twitch Prime, with 12.7k being Tier 1 subs, leaving just 53 and 54 subscribers for his Tier 2 and Tier 3 benefits, respectively. Game of Thrones is one of the of the biggest TV shows of the last decade, so when Destiny decided to share spoilers people were pissed; it seems like everyone is upset with Destiny, everyone, that is, except xQc. xQc has his popcorn ready After a user in chat brought up the Destiny situation to xQc, the streamer looked like a kid first thing on Christmas morning and explained he was thrilled with what was going on, because it took the spotlight off of him. “My hatred level was at the top, it was going down but it was still a little up,” xQc said, describing the haters he’s been dealing with on Twitter. “Then Destiny was like ‘SPOILERS’, ‘SPOILERS.’” “I was like: ‘hey Destiny, go go go go!’” xQc said while laughing with chat. “Hardcore, more spoilers, hey, pump that shit dude.” A lot of people are, understandably, upset with Destiny for spoiling their favorite show, but based on this clip Destiny’s shennanigans might as well have given xQc an early birthday gift. Though he’s also given away some big wads of cash as well, even buying his fans Christmas presents on occasion. Well, with his PC struggling to boot after his January 18 stream, he decided to break out and host a rare IRL stream, and ended up making a restaurant server’s day with a massive tip. Though, they didn’t believe him at first. xQc gives restaurant server $1200 tip in IRL stream That’s right, xQc’s January 19 stream consisted of him hitting the streets and skateboarding, rather than getting incredibly frustrated by a new game or his chat’s constant backseat instructions. Though, when he went to grab some food, he wanted his chat’s help for a tip. He used a number randomizer to decide on a figure between $1 and $1200. It landed just under the full amount, so he rounded up anyway. The streamer then approached his server and informed her of the massive tip, telling her to keep it for herself. As she checked the massive figure, she was visibly moved but said: “You’re lying.” So, he reassured her it was genuine. Given that xQc had signed the receipt, the tip was genuine and his bank account could be charged for it. He left the restaurant shortly after, so there wasn’t any arguing over it. His tip went a bit differently than another streamer who tried to give their IHOP server $400, only to be told they couldn’t accept.

One of the videos suggested by viewers was the new trailer for the CGI “Lion King” remake from Disney, and as the video ended, xQc seemed impressed by the realistic special effects. “I feel like if you put this in a child movie dude, like the quality is so good that the main small tiger, you know the small tiger? He looks so cute, if he was to die that would be so depressing dude,” Felix told chat, who were already making fun of him for the slip-up. Occasionally the 23-year-old will break out IRL streams, and on Sunday, September 22, xQc headed out to a Dave & Busters arcade with some fellow streamers, but got threatened by the location’s manager during the broadcast. After playing arcade games with his crew, including other popular Twitch stars like pokelawls and Mizkif, the group headed into the location’s store, eager to spend the 15,000 tickets they had earned on some cool prizes to take home with them. As they tried out a yo-yo, pokelawls, xQc, and the gang were approached by a manager of the facility, who made it clear he didn’t want to be filmed and even threatened to make a copyright claim against them. “Are you guys recording?’ asked the employee, with the group confirming that they were. “Do you ask people’s permission? Because if you see my face anywhere on the screen, blur my face. Straight up, I will copyright strike.” The group didn’t seem particularly worried about the prospect, with xQc joking about fellow streamer Alinity Divine, who was involved in a public spat with Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg after claiming a video in which he criticized her. “I heard about someone who did that,” the former Overwatch pro stated. “Her name was Alinity, and it was really bad.” They did go on to apologize to the manager, even though it’s unlikely he would have been able to successfully claim the stream, confirming that they wouldn’t show him on camera again, with the group able to exchange their tickets for an acoustic guitar, some candy, and the yo-yo.

The drama began over a discussion about Ross and his audience on Ludwig’s stream, with both sides going back and forth over Twitter. Since then, FaZe Banks has even got involved in an attempt to squash the “weird” beef between the personalities. Now, xQc has weighed in with his opinion on the drama and admitted that he sympathizes with Ross, claiming that other big streamers feel threatened by a new face on the platform who has surged into popularity. xQc claims big streamers feel “challenged” by Adin Ross During his May 31 stream, xQc discussed the drama going on between Adin Ross and Ludwig, admitting that he sympathizes with Ross as he knows what it’s like to gain popularity on Twitch in a short space of time. A stranger at xQc’s window The popular Twitch streamer was playing Minecraft when suddenly his head jerked up as he noticed something outside. “Who’s outside!? What the!?” he exclaimed before slamming his headphones on the table. With a look of terror on his face, he then jumped up from his seat and sprinted out of the room as he called out for his housemate and fellow streamer Sammy ‘adeptthebest’. xQc was so terrified that he sprinted out of his room to get some answers. After returning, xQc explained his confusion to his audience. “Dude, I don’t know what it is. Some guy with like, a stick. Then on the stick is like some fluffy thing and I don’t know what he’s doing.” Someone in his chat suggested it could be a window washer, but the streamer quickly shot that down. “I don’t think we’ve had anybody like wash the windows, dude”. Still shocked by the situation, the Canadian streamer asked “What is he doing?” to which his housemate replied: “Spraying for the wasps and the bugs and stuff, so they don’t get into the house, or live on our house”. Incredulous, xQc brought up the weird stick the man was holding. “But he had a stick with like a fluffy thing on top.” “He’s probably knocking down the nests” she finally replied, before the Overwatch pro accepted the explanation. The era of creator-run esports organizations is just beginning, with a select few creators making waves after investing in various esports titles. With the success of Moist Esports in multiple esports titles, other creators have taken notice and started investing in esports themselves. xQc may be the next in line and, considering that he’s one of the most viewed (and highest earning) streamers on Twitch, he has a lot of potential when it comes to bolstering the scene. According to chat logs from xQc, he plans to start with Valorant. xQc claims he bought a pro Valorant team Picking up a Valorant team is something that’s been a long time coming. He teased his involvement with the game after Disguised Toast’s team started tearing up the competition, claiming that he wanted to buy a team that could take down Toast’s roster. He’s continued to mention his interest, particularly in a Valorant team, over the past few months. This led to a recent on-stream conversation about how, in his pursuit to purchase a team in Valorant, he almost got scammed. Now, xQc has claimed that he’s buying a Valorant team, followed by plans to purchase a Rocket League team and a team within the LFL, the League of Legends French League. And, according to xQc, the way he’s going about picking up teams is more profitable than trying to start an organization. It’s unclear what xQc’s Valorant team or, by extension, his organization would be called. However, there’s a lot of potential for a creator-run business and organization to do well. Outside of the aforementioned Moist Esports, it’s easy to look to a creator-launched business like PRIME Hydration to see just how much potential there is when it comes to content creator-backed ventures. Whether or not xQc goes all-in on esports remains to be seen. However, if what he’s claimed in these chat messages comes to fruition, the former Overwatch pro has the potential to once again be a big name in esports. This time, as an owner.

Twitch Turbo is nothing new – it’s been available for years. But, it’s never been seen as a particularly popular option, as ads were not a big concern for most viewers, and they could simply subscribe to their favorite streamer instead to get no ads on that channel. But, as Twitch is pushing streamers to run more ads, with new incentive deals, they are becoming more and more of a nuisance to viewers hopping between streams. In some cases, viewers are hit with up to 15 consecutive, unskippable ads, while watching a channel. xQc: Buy Twitch Turbo instead While reacting to one such instance of 15 ads in a row, xQc gave his take on the drama over increased ad rolls on the platform, with some advice for his viewers. “I’m telling you, I don’t give no f**k [about my sub count],” xQc said. “Instead, get yourself Twitch Turbo. Twitch Turbo is wicked. You have no ads anywhere on the platform when you have it. For the price of two subs, you have a sub on every channel across the platform.” Spreading such a message to such a large viewer base likely saw a sharp uptick in Turbo subscribers already. Some Twitch users have also spotted a message on the top bar highlighting that ad-free viewing is available with Turbo. However, for most users, it is still rather difficult to actually find the option for Twitch Turbo anywhere on the site. It is only available at the bottom of the ‘General’ drop-down menu. Turbo costs $8.99 a month, but there is no regional pricing, meaning for some users in certain localities, the price could be much higher than what xQc describes as just the cost of two subs.

To close out his August 24 stream, he queued for a match on Inferno in the Gold Nova group, and dropped 23 kills while also picking up the most MVP stars on his team. But then this happened: So, there are a couple of things to unpack here. First, we have xQc jumping off of the palace balcony to the A site ramp entrance. He clearly tries to switch from knife to shotgun, but accidentally switches back to his knife. With no ranged weapon available, he gets blasted by the AK-47 wielding player in front of him. That same player then kills his teammate who’s at triple box, and then xQc loses another teammate at mid, as a 5v3 turned into a 3v2 in just seconds. To make matters worse, his teammate with the Team Liquid player icon goes to smoke the molotov at his feet on B short, but he ends up dying to the flames. In the split second before switching cameras, it looks like the fire is still going despite the sound of it being extinguished, so this death might be attributed to a molotov bug rather than impatience or stupidity. But there’s no excuse for what happens next, as his last surviving teammate patiently waits in the smoke next to ticket booth for the terrorist player to flash in, and then proceeds to miss roughly 12-13 shots with the M4A4 from behind. His should-be-kill then whips around with his AK and headshots the poor lad, and even xQc can’t stifle a laugh. Maybe Valve should add a Bronze rank to matchmaking.

Well, her fans, at least. xQc throws Taylor Swift fans some shade xQc claims he has nothing but respect and admiration for Taylor Swift herself. However, he has thrown some shade at her fans. More specifically, he believes the portion of her fans who draw comparisons between her and others and attack them on social media are a nuisance. xQc stated that he believes Taylor Swift “kinda had to go with the industry and whatnot” once she became a superstar, and that he understands and respects it. “But the problem is… her fans and her fan base,” he added. He goes on to describe a hypothetical situation in which Kanye West says, “I just sold… 600 million dollars worth of products… just to let you guys know.” xQc then re-enacts Taylor Swift fans spamming Kanye with “Taylor ended your career” comments. To reiterate his point, he acts out another situation in which the fans say “Taylor Swift ended your career overnight.” xQc is referring to a feud between Kim, Kanye, and Taylor Swift A word for word summary doesn’t do it justice. xQc’s impressions are hilarious and questionable, to say the least. But it’s something that has happened on social media before, and he felt strongly enough about it to make a comment. Taylor Swift feuded with both Kim Kardashian and Kanye West earlier this year, and although it seems like the trio has more or less made amends, some of her fans weren’t ready to forgive and forget. Either way, it doesn’t matter too much whether you agree with xQc or not. After all, it’s nothing more than his opinion on something trivial. But the main thing is his awful impersonations are well worth the watch and provide good entertainment value.

The former Overwatch pro currently sits as the 28th most followed Twitch streamer, after you discount event broadcasters, video game channels and inactive streamers. Having amassed over 1.8 million followers, the former Overwatch pro broadcasts near-daily to a captive audience. While xQc’s talents stem from Overwatch, he often turns his hand to any game to appease his following. During December, the Canadian frequented Jump King and CS:GO the most, with the bulk of his streams transitioning to a ‘Just Chatting’ segment — which took up almost 90 hours of his time. In December, he is streaks ahead of the competition in terms of hours watched, according to TwitchMetrics. With technology constantly improving, AI-powered bots are becoming more and more prevalent. They’ve now even made their way onto Twitch, with users creating their own AI-generated streams which have taken over the platform. AI-generated Nothing, Forever — a show parodying the hit 90s sitcom Seinfeld — as well as Anime and even SpongeBob SquarePants have become massive hits. We’ve even seen AI bots accompany our favorite Twitch stars on their streams, and they’re absolutely brutal. xQc shocked as AI calls Ludwig “most braindead streamer” xQc was left stunned in his March 13 live stream, as his very own AI bot — which was created by a fan to mimic the Twitch star — fired shots at Ludwig. With viewers being able to ask the bot questions, one fan asked who it thinks is the most braindead streamer, to which the AI clapped back with a hilarious response. “Ludwig is probably the most braindead streamer if you really think about it,” the AI responded. “I mean, the guy doesn’t know how to do anything except play melee really.” The AI continued: “He’s one of the most popular because he is literally just a good-looking white guy, but I feel he just doesn’t have like any substance to him as a streamer. So, PewDiePie stepped up to the plate with his own, hilarious take on things – complete with classic memes and YouTube roasts. Though, in one segment, popular streamer xQc made an appearance where he labeled Thanos from Marvel’s Avengers as a “cheater,” when a video of the Avengers x Fortnite crossover was revealed. With the former Overwatch League professional being live on Twitch when the video was released, it didn’t take long for his fans to make him aware of his inclusion, leading him to react to it on stream. “What?” xQc called out upon seeing himself and breaking into laughter. “You were right. Guys, we made it dude! We cheated, he cheated. That’s crazy, dude.” After finishing up with the comedic video, the streamer wanted to give his thanks to his namesake for including him – so he left a little comment. “Chat, we can comment something nice. I was here PogU. Nice video Felix. PS, please don’t copy strike me,” he said, joking about the beef between PewDiePie and Alinity after the YouTuber called out Twitch streamers in 2018. Even though he may not have expected to find himself as a part of the video, it’s probably something that xQc will take either way as it promotes him to a huge audience. It might not score him a collaboration with the YouTube king anytime soon, but at least Felix’s are looking out for each other.

xQc stunned after being baited into promoting RAID mobile game on stream Twitch streamer Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel was hilariously caught off-guard after he was tricked into playing an ad for the mobile game RAID: Shadow Legends live in front of thousands of viewers. xQc’s ‘media share streams’ are a favorite with fans, who can submit a video or link along with a donation that the streamer will watch and react to with his chat. Memes, funny videos and even content created by fans themselves are usually featured, but the most recent media share stream on January 12 included something that caught the Twitch star off guard. The stream was going on as normal when, out of nowhere, a full advertisement video for the mobile game RAID: Shadow Legends popped up. “Is that a f*cking ad?” xQc asked after what was definitely an ad started playing. “It is literally an ad, literally an ad.” The streamer could do nothing but watch the rest of the ad in stunned silence, as his chat exploded with fans laughing at the bold trickery unfolding before their very eyes. It’s not clear exactly who orchestrated this bait. The user who donated $10 to get the ad played was named RAIDshadowlegends, which suggests it may have been the developers themselves. That, however, remains unconfirmed since realistically anyone could have used that name in an attempt to make their troll look more authentic. If developers were indeed the ones behind this, then paying $10 to get an ad on to xQc’s stream – which regularly breaks 20,000 viewers – would be a bold, brilliant, and admittedly shameless marketing strategy. It’s not the first time ads for games have been snuck into big-time Twitch streams either. In 2019 a user impersonating the Escape From Tarkov developers trolled Asmongold with a video promoting the game as he watched videos with viewers. Advertisements and videos promoting these kinds of games are already all over YouTube and Twitch, but paying to sneak them in a streamer’s media share queue is on a whole other level.

xQc stunned after discovering Hasan’s trick to avoid “react content” backlash xQc was shocked when he discovered an editing tactic being used on Hasan’s stream to avoid any more controversy over low-effort “react content”. While xQc and Hasan are some of the biggest names in streaming, that doesn’t mean they aren’t free from criticism, and one of the biggest critiques they faced last year was their approach to watching other people’s content and then reuploading it, also known as “react content”. The two top streamers came under fire for stealing videos: critics said that by watching videos on stream and then uploading their (usually unremarkable) reaction to YouTube, the streamers were stealing views and revenue that would otherwise have gone to the original content creator. While the controversy has died down now, several streamers are still concerned about the drama, especially with plagiarism being a hot topic in online culture right now. And it seems that Hasan’s stream is deploying countermeasures to stop this, as xQc discovered while he was live on Twitch. xQc aghast after finding Hasan’s editing tactic to avoid controversy While streaming on his Twitch channel, xQc came across a clip from Hasan’s stream which showed him reacting to a video from CNN. However, Hasan gets up to go to the loo during the clip, leaving the video running while he’s away from the camera. This was one of the biggest criticisms that both xQc and Hasan received; using content to retain viewers while they were AFK. In the clip though, the footage of an empty chair is replaced with footage of Hasan reacting as if he were still there, which caused xQc to double-take. He said: “Hold on. Chat, now hold on. Are you telling me that I reacted to an educational video about the whole ordeal, and I get canceled for reacting, and the same people are praising this guy? “This editor who went after me literally modified the f*cking video when [Hasan] goes offscreen.”

During a recent broadcast, xQc vocalized his desire to return to those days: “call me boomer dude, but I enjoyed when Netflix had a monopoly. “I don’t mind a monopoly if it means we don’t have to log into 8 different systems.” In a world where Blockbuster and physical rentals were the only thing out there, Netflix showed the world the potential of online streaming. During the first couple of years of the platform’s launch, Netflix was one of the sole providers of legal online streaming — allowing them to host now very competitive shows with ease. There was a point in time where Netflix had That 70’s Show, The Office, Frasier, and even Parks and Recreation all at the same time. But the world has since caught up — with competitors like Hulu, Disney Plus, and HBO Max contesting Netflix for big name releases. xQc grew more heated while recapping the current state of the streaming wars, exclaiming frustration at how the only solution really is VPNs. “VPN this, NordVPN up my **shole, this, that, f**kin three browsers, new computer, antenna, I wanna watch a show man! The consumer is always losing!” It’s unlikely to get any better in the streaming space as more companies try to get a slice of the pie, but hopefully xQc can one day catch that show he’s after — whatever it may be.

xQc struggles to find Shaggy in HBO Max Velma trailer While reacting to the trailer for the HBO Max original show Velma, popular Twitch streamer xQc struggled to find Shaggy, as many characters have been redesigned for the spin-off cartoon. For the past 54 years, the character designs for Scooby-Doo and the rest of the Mystery Inc. gang have primarily stayed the same. These five characters have been largely recognizable, from their clothes to their skin tone to their voices. This is thanks to Scooby-Doo being a cartoon, save for a few live-action films. But even the crime solvers in the 2002 film and beyond were easily recognized due to their hairstyles, outfits, and mannerisms. And the same can mainly be said for Velma. Velma is a new spin-off prequel to the Scooby-Doo universe geared toward adults with its humor and storyline. And instead of having the same caucasian cast we’ve seen for 54 years, Velma represents more ethnicities by making Shaggy, aka Norville, African American, and the titular character, Velma Dinkley, South Asian. xQc doesn’t recognize Shaggy in HBO Max’s Velma While watching the trailer for Velma on stream, xQc was seemingly confused by what he was seeing. “Wait… I don’t remember her looking like this,” he stated before searching for a picture of Velma online. “When I was a kid, I watched some of the cartoons. Am I crazy? Because I thought she was skinny and white?” However, xQc seemed the most perplexed toward the end of the trailer, wondering where franchise favorite herb lover Shaggy had been. As he clicked back through the video, looking for a glimpse of the caucasian Rogers, he stumbled onto a scene where a white man with a goatee can briefly be seen in the reflection of a car window. “Him?” xQc asked, pointing at the character that vaguely looked like the traditional Shagster. Ironically, the reflection overlapped with the actual Shaggy’s face. This explains why xQc didn’t understand a punchline earlier in the trailer. Shaggy’s character, who has drawn suspicion of being a “pothead” for years, looks at the camera and states that he doesn’t do drugs, followed by a long pause. Despite wearing the same attire that Shaggy has been known for over the last 50+ years, xQc isn’t completely to blame. Nowhere in the commercial is he referred to as “Shaggy.” Instead, he’s listed as Norville – Shaggy’s real first name. xQc quickly realized who Shaggy was once his chat had explained they had changed his ethnicity. “I didn’t know. I just thought that Velma was only about Velma. That there were no other Scooby-Doo characters. And I thought they just decided to make her skin more tan or something. But then I realized – I get it – they reinterpreted the show and made both main characters black.” So, in the end, xQc finally found out which character in the trailer was meant to be Shaggy.

Netflix is making a documentary about the infamous trail, and xQc spotted himself in the trailer while watching it on stream. xQc loses it after spotting himself in Depp vs Heard Netflix trailer Set to premiere on August 16, the three-part Netflix series Depp vs Heard will document various aspects of the infamous trial that went on for several months. While watching the trailer for the documentary on stream, xQc lost it after spotting a screenshot of him that they used when talking about how content creators reacted to Depp vs Heard. “Yo! Yo! Yo. Nooo shot. Oh my god I f*ckin made it, dude,” he said. xQc was just one of the biggest streamers following alongside the Depp vs Heard trial. xQc Starts Smashing His Equipment in Rage During Realm Royale $100K Tournament Popular streamer Félix “xQc” Lengyel could not contain his rage after being eliminated during KEEMSTAR’s Thursday Realm Royale $100,000 tournament, smashing his desk and tossing his headset. xQc’s streams are popular for a number of reasons, but one of them is his notorious rage outbursts – most famously on Overwatch, the game he previously played at a professional level with the Dallas Fuel. But really, his rage the kind that all gamers experience from time to time, on all different games, especially those that are online – with some serious money is on the line. Playing in KEEMSTAR and Hi-Rez Studio’s weekly $100,000 Realm Royale tournament, xQc and his duos partner were eliminated, and his desk and headset took the brunt of his anger. Warning: It gets pretty loud. Realm Royale is a battle royale like most others, but with it’s own unique twists on the gameplay and features you may be familiar with from Fortnite and PUBG. However, it is still in its early access stage, with the developers at Hi-Rez studying the game for improvements and bug fixes, before a full launch. Unfortunately for xQc, he wasn’t able to break into the money placings with his performance, him and his partner MOXY finished 20th out of 35 teams. They did manage to out place some big name favorites however, such as the duo of Summit1g and JoshOG, who many had figured had a good shot of winning. xQc and MOXY also bettered streamers shroud and Jotobo, who like Summit and JoshOG, failed to win a game.
