Tyler1 loses it over LoL Challenger ranked grind League of Legends superstar Tyler ‘Tyler1‘ Steinkamp has exploded on stream over his challenging ranked grind, with the climb back to the top being more difficult than he was expecting. Tyler1 has been looking to prove once and for all that he is the best League of Legends player in North America in Season 9. The grind to the top wasn’t meant to be easy, with the game’s becoming harder and harder as he reached the summit. Now, it feels like the system is working against him, with the streamer now battling against low LP gains on the grind to Challenger, and he’s starting to lose the plot. On a November 11 stream, Tyler1 grabbed his first win of the day three games in with a solid Heimerdinger performance. However, he was a bit cynical about how much progress the hard-earned victory would actually give him on the competitive ladder. “Alright good sh*t we finally got a f*cking win,” he said. “Now watch, +13 LP. Just piss me off a little bit more today, just give me +13 so I can punch my monitor.” He predicted it coming from a mile away, but he still wasn’t prepared for the bitter aftertaste after experiencing sweet victory. The +13 LP gain meme became a reality, and the Draven aficionado was furious. “Motherf*cker, suck my f*cking d*ck,” he exploded, angling towards his monitor in a Summit-esque rage moment. There might be a few reasons behind Tyler’s low LP gain for that hard-fought victory. First of all, the enemy team had a Master-level player, meaning that T1’s team had a better MMR than the enemies. On top of that, Tyler1 currently sits on a negative win rate on his ‘S8 IS SO FUN‘ account. While it’s not much — with a 495-500 record over 995 games in Season 9 — your long term winrate can have a big effect on your LP gains. The gains become even worse if you are coming off the back of a loss streak, which Tyler1 is. He went on a six-game loss streak just a couple of days ago, and has a 5-10 record over his last 15 games. What rank is Tyler1? As of November 11, Tyler1 sits in Grandmaster, hovering around the 350 LP mark. Getting to Grandmaster is a pretty big achievement that usually puts players into the top 1000 players on North America. 350 LP sits him comfortably near the top 500 players, meaning that the League personality has the skills to back up his banter. Tyler1 has made it to Challenger before back in Season 8 and earlier in Season 9, but is yet to finish a ranked season off in the prestigious bracket. Read more: Riot reveals LoL World Cup plans – To break into the top 300 before Season 9 ends on November 19, he will need about 520 LP to crack into the bracket, and about 550 to 600 LP to sit himself comfortably in the top tier. While the LP gains and matchmaking can get pretty rough nearing the end of the season, Tyler1 will be battling against it all to prove to everyone that he is indeed the best player on the server. If he keeps his mental strong, who knows what he could achieve.

Tyler1 ‘proves’ his height, instantly gets exposed by girlfriend – Dexerto
Tyler1 ‘proves’ his height, instantly gets exposed by girlfriend Popular League of Legends, there is perhaps no more popular solo streamer than Tyler1. Thousands of viewers flock to Steinkamp’s daily broadcasts, where he does everything from dominate opponents to raging when a match doesn’t go his way. Like the majority of popular Twitch streamers, Tyler1’s channel has plenty of ‘jokes’ that get pulled out on a daily basis – with the main one centering around his height, or lack thereof. Other streamers like shroud have taken pops at his size, even though it was all in the name of good fun, and not overly serious. The jokes about his height are even something his own girlfriend, fellow streamer Macaiyla, has used to get a rise out of T1. During their October 31st broadcast, the pair had been carving pumpkins, when Tyler explained that it was pretty hard to draw on them – something his girlfriend disagreed with. “If it was possible, I would be able to do it!” said Tyler, before Macaiyla fired back. “You can’t do everything,” she said. “You cannot do everything. You cannot touch the ceiling right now! You can’t touch the ceiling, I know you can’t, I get your food.” That prompted Tyler to jump up, nearly fall over a few wires, before trying to touch the ceiling – even though his girlfriend didn’t mention jumping. A few camera tricks later, and the streamer tried to touch the prove his height again. This time, though, struggling to pull open what seemed like a pretty high cabinet. Yet, his joke was exposed when Macaiyla jumped up, tilted the camera down and showed him sitting up the cooker in order to get a boost. While she, and Twitch chat of course, laughed at him, Tyler came down and sat back on the floor, forgetting what had just unfolded. As the streamer seemed to take the banter in good spirits – as well as playing up the struggle to reach the ceiling – it’s given fans another moment that they can laugh at for a few more streams. Just what methods T1 will try next in order to ‘prove’ his height remains to be seen, but he may want to keep his girlfriend away from his proof, just so she can’t expose him.

Tyler1 plays League of Legends with his feet, leaving viewers confused – Dexerto
Tyler1 plays League of Legends with his feet, leaving viewers confused Warner Bros / Tyler1 – TwitchPopular Twitch streamer Tyler ‘Tyler1‘ Steinkamp left his viewers in a daze of confusion after he inexplicably starting playing League of Legends with his feet live on stream. To say that Tyler1 is an eccentric personality would be a major understatement, as the streamer is known for often displaying the type of behavior on his broadcasts that isn’t found often on Twitch. Despite the fact that he’s one of the biggest League streamers there’s ever been, some often tune in to his channel to be entertained by his hilarious antics just as much as his gameplay, both of which are top-tier. Tyler1 plays League with his feet In the middle of a League match he was live-streaming on April 23, Tyler1 suddenly stopped playing normally and began using his feet instead of his hands to input the controls. The resulting mayhem was as chaotic as you’d expect, as he got pretty much nothing done except zooming in so close that pretty much nothing on the screen was discernible. Perhaps the most hilarious part of the clip above was when he got frustrated due to not being able to press the correct button on his mouse, leading him to bellow “right click God damn it!” in classic Tyler1 style. As you would expect, those tuning in live when this happened didn’t really know how to react to their favorite streamer playing with his feet, as some laughed in the chat while others sat there full of confusion. His feet technique proved to be not good enough as his team ended up inevitably losing the match, although that didn’t seem to daze Tyler much. Tyler1 speaks on anxiety Although Tyler1 is known for his comedic and wild content, there are times when he doesn’t shy away from speaking about certain realities of his life, such as anxiety. Several days before the stream from which the clip above was taken, he spoke about what he thinks of anxiety and how he deals with his own mental discomforts. It turned out that his coping method for anxiety is pretty much as unusual as a lot of everything else he does, but that’s not really a surprise is it?

Tyler1 mocks Europe in epic rant following Team Liquid’s loss at MSI 2019 – Dexerto
Tyler1 mocks Europe in epic rant following Team Liquid’s loss at MSI 2019 Tyler1 – Twitch / Geology.comTyler ‘League of Legends, but this time he showed us his rages that target whole groups of people, like Europeans. Prompted by Team Liquid going out to G2 at MSI 2019, Tyler had to defend the NA by belittling the EU any way he could, even throwing a bit of shade at NA by labeling Team Liquid as “weak NA League of Legends.” Tyler exposed all of Europe “You beat a bottom tier team of NA, congrats fellas,” he said. “Soccer, period. That’s all I have to say. F-f-f-football, it’s football, shut up, you’re stuttering spitting that out. That’s a European education. I’m almost positive everyone from Europe has social anxiety drilled into them.” These are harsh words to lay down as a blanket statement about a whole continent but hurling insults and ranting has become something Tyler1 is known for. His chat, for the most part, encouraged his rant spamming emotes and laughing along with him. What happened at MSI 2019? Despite Tyler1 saying NA is better than the EU, we saw Team Liquid get swept by EU’s G2 Esports. By defeating Team Liquid, G2 became Europe’s first ever MSI champs. The path there wasn’t easy as neither G2, nor Team Liquid, were expected to meet in the Finals but both arrived there by way of upset. EU might have won the latest NA vs. EU showdown in League of Legends, but Tyler1 is making sure to do his country proud by defending their honor on his stream daily.

Tyler1 obliterates his headset in League of Legends misplay meltdown – Dexerto
Tyler1 obliterates his headset in League of Legends misplay meltdown Twitch: Tyler1Tyler ‘Tyler1’ Steinkamp lost the plot after failing to secure a fairly easy smite in League of Legends, smashing his headset into smithereens before tearing up in his chair in another classic meltdown from the hothead streamer. It’s easy to get salty over a game of League, especially if you missed smite as a jungler. It’s one of the worst feelings not being able to secure the objective, and in the worst case, it can sometimes even single-handedly lose you the game. The pressure is always high stakes when it comes to securing an objective, but a monumental screw-up from Tyler1 saw the former AD carry turned jungler crack a tantrum for the ages at the expense of his gaming headset. With his team behind in a tense game of solo queue, Tyler1 on Olaf was looking to secure a dragon after getting the enemy Warwick off the board. It looked set in stone, until he miscalculated the damage and failed to get his smite off before the enemy Caitlyn sniped it. This led Tyler1 to go on a frenzy, screaming in anger at himself over missing the objective, which would have secured his team the ever-powerful Ocean Soul. He tossed his headset around too, breaking it in the process, only making things worse. “I broke my headset man,” he said while tearing up in his chair. “Dude, there’s no way [I missed that smite]!” The AD carry turned jungler seemed pretty deflated over the misplay, looking back on the moment with plenty of what-if’s. “I knew I was going to miss it, I could just tell,” he said, explaining what he needs to change in the future so he can climb to Rank 1. “I’m f**king waiting until the dragon is below my smite mark, but you’ve gotta assume it based on damage.” “God I’m so sad,” he added in a surprisingly non-Tyler comment. The missed smite did have a massive lead-on impact for the rest of the game too. Tyler1’s mental was completely out of it after that, and he finished the game 0/8/10 on Olaf. On top of that, his team never managed to secure the soul as the enemy continued to choke them out and keep them from the pit. However, it’s all lessons learned for the streamer’s grind to Challenger in a new role. While he’s peaked in the top rank in his main position of AD carry, he set himself a challenge to do the same in the jungle for Season 10. He’s currently sitting in Diamond 4 with a 58% win rate after 200 games, with plenty of losses as of late stagnating his climb. He did get his headset replaced thanks to his partner Macaiyla bringing one out mid-stream, but the new equipment won’t make the wounds of the painful missed smite go away, or the meltdown it brought with it.

Tyler1 loses his mind during 24 hour stream attempt – Dexerto
Tyler1 loses his mind during 24 hour stream attempt Tyler1/TwitchDuring one of his recent 24 hour stream attempts, popular Twitch streamer, Tyler ‘Tyler1’ Steinkamp began to lose his mind after drinking his own pre workout drink. Tyler1 has been one of the most popular streamers on Twitch and is primarily known from playing League of Legends – where he often finds something to rage at in-game which has even resulted in him being banned from playing from the game. He has calmed down a slight bit however, after being un-banned by Riot Games early in 2018, Tyler has gone on to attend official League of Legends events such as the All-Star’s 2018 in Las Vegas and often refers to himself as ‘reformed’ and has even has a merch collection with the phrase written across the front. However, Tyler recently let a bit of his wild side out again during his 24 hour stream attempt on March 30, when he took a few minutes break from playing to make himself a mug of his ‘Tyler1 Bloodrush Pre Workout’ before continuing with the relentless task of climbing the League of Legends ranked system. When he returned, after calmly sipping on his drink for a while he leaned in close to the camera, before tell his viewers that he “can feel it coursing through his blood” before sliding back in his chair letting out shrieks and growls, and then screaming into the air in attempt of promoting the drink’s effects. His viewers found the clip highly entertaining and some fans simply attributed his outburst due to the intensity of the League of Legends ranked play system saying, “this is what League done to you.” Tyler has often been seen as one of the more controversial streamers on Twitch for his unpredictable personality but this clip was just an example of how much energy he puts into his streams regardless of what people think of him.

Tyler1 mocks “crybaby” streamers during KEEMSTAR’s Minecraft Monday event – Dexerto
Tyler1 mocks “crybaby” streamers during KEEMSTAR’s Minecraft Monday event tyler1 twitchPopular Twitch streamer Tyler ‘Tyler1’ Steinkamp mocked “crybaby” content creators who were taking part in KEEMSTAR’s Minecraft Monday competition, after they claimed points shouldn’t have been counted because of glitch. KEEMSTAR’s weekly tournaments such as Friday Fortnite and Minecraft Monday, which include the biggest names in gaming entertainment, have become extremely popular among fans, wanting to watch their favorite creators battle it out. Two of the latest popular streamers to try their hands at the tournaments were Tyler1 and Greekgodx, who both made a hilarious impression with their lack of experience at some of the Minecraft modes, such as the fan favorite Hunger Games. While the two streamers took a more relaxed approach to tournament, many of their fellow participants who were competing took the event more seriously, in an attempt to win their share of the $10,000 prize. After a glitch occurred at the start of one of the rounds, stopping some players from earning points during the Build Battle after they fell through the map, some began to argue that points from that round should not be counted. However, Tyler1 and Greekgodx were not too happy with this idea, after feeling like they had put up their best performance of the tournament during the Build Battle round, and began mocking some of their competitors. “People are sitting here like, KEEMSTAR the points can’t count!” Tyler explained, banging his desk while imitating his fellow streamers cries, “No it’s not fair, go to the next game KEEMSTAR, I can’t build, I fell through the map!” After Tyler1 had finished mocking some of the other content creators, he called for them to just get on with the tournament instead of complaining about the glitch, “Dude, you fucking crybabies, shut the fuck up and play.” Tyler1 has been known for not holding back while clashing with other Twitch streamers in the past, such as his hilarious feud with Dr Disrespect. While he did not ultimately win the event, or even come close, Tyler1’s stream made for some of the most entertaining content out of most of the competitors, as he and Greekgodx to figure out each of the maps and modes as they went along.

Tyler1 is hilariously unimpressed by fellow streamer’s impersonation – Dexerto
Tyler1 is hilariously unimpressed by fellow streamer’s impersonation Tyler ‘Tyler1’ Steinkamp has one of the most recognizable voices on Twitch, making him a ripe target for impersonations among the community. While many attempt to imitate the streamer, who is best known for his League of Legends broadcasts, it seems none of them are very good – at least, that’s what Tyler1 thinks. On Monday, January 14, fellow streamer Mizkif shaved his eyebrows and hair off after huge donations in his chat demanded he do it. With his hair gone, many of his viewers felt that Mizkif looked a lot like Steinkamp, and asked him to pretend to be the streamer, with Mizkif breaking out a pretty good impression of Tyler1 which his chat enjoyed immensely. With many agreeing that Mizkif’s imitation was almost perfect, the Steinkamp decided to watch the video with his chat, and was less than happy with what he heard. “I don’t sound like that. I do not sound, act or look like that. This impersonation is not even fucking close. Maybe fucking next time dude,” Tyler1 told his chat, before purposefully speaking in a lower register to change the sound of his voice. “I don’t sound like that.” Steinkamp and former Overwatch pro Félix ‘xQc’ Lengyel also got into a war of words this week, with xQc taking offense to Tyler1 referring to him as a “normie.” Lengyel couldn’t believe what the streamer had said, responding by telling his own stream: “Motherfucker drinks water out of his little sippy cup and his booster seat. Shit is unbelievable.”

Tyler1 left speechless after fan destroys home gym lifting too much weight – Dexerto
Tyler1 left speechless after fan destroys home gym lifting too much weight Tyler1League of Legends streamer Tyler1 was baffled by a fan that lifted too much weight in his home gym, causing an absolute disaster that ended in a shattered mirror and a ruined workout space. Tyler1 is Twitch’s biggest League of Legends streamer, known for his occasional bursts of aggression, which have led to some hilarious moments. On top of that, he is also known for his weightlifting prowess. Back in April, he hosted a powerlifting event on his Twitch stream that encouraged fans to join him in his dedication to fitness. A fan of Tyler1’s might have taken this call to fitness a little too seriously, making an enormous mess in the process. Weight lifting disaster Tyler1 was streaming on August 16 when he reacted to a video of a fan bench pressing too much weight. This led to him dropping the weight on himself directly, shattering an enormous mirror in his home gym. “Got the ‘Built Diff’ tank on!” Tyler said while estimating about 50 pounds of weight on the barbell. When the weightlifter could get the barbell up, Tyler tried to encourage him, saying, “Get it up now! Get it up son!” Sadly, the barbell slammed into the ground and the mirror was shattered into tons of small pieces. Tyler screamed in laughter and disowned the clip. “That’s not even my shirt bro! That’s not on me.” While the clip on Tyler’s Twitch page is titled ‘Tyler1’s shirt give super powers,’ that might be a bit misleading; while Tyler1 encourages his fans to get into weight lifting, this was not the type of weight lifting he was encouraging. Hopefully, this is a lesson for future weight lifters to not have loose mirrors right next to their lifting station, as there is potential for disaster.

Tyler1 impersonates “weirdo” CorpseHusband and roasts his music – Dexerto
Tyler1 impersonates “weirdo” CorpseHusband and roasts his music Twitch: Tyler1, Spotify: CorpseHusbandWhen League of Legends streamer Tyler1 isn’t finding himself in the heat of battle, he’s using his downtime to keep entertained and this impersonation of musician CorpseHusband is definitely one of his stranger moments. Tyler Steinkamp, better known as Tyler1, is a titan when it comes to League of Legends streaming. Often sprinkling hilarious fits of aggression into his gameplay, the streamer has amassed a thunderous 4.2 million-strong following. When he isn’t gaming, he’s keeping in shape and reacting to disastrous fitness fiascos by his fans. However, what viewers might not expect is Tyler channelling his musical side. Showcasing an odd moment in-between games, Tyler’s artist of choice was definitely unexpected. Tyler1 impersonates “weirdo” CorpseHusband CorpseHusband is an American streamer and YouTuber, who has also embarked on a music career, and known for remaining “faceless” throughout his career. Armed with an astounding low-pitched vocal range, the content creator has successfully reached 100 million Spotify streams as his music has grown in popularity. Read More: Top 20 most followed Twitch streamers – Now, Tyler has weighed in regarding his stance on Corpse’s music during a pre-game lobby. Waiting for his next battle to begin, Tyler brought his microphone closer to enhance his bass tones: “look at me, I’m that f**king weirdo CorpseHusband.” The impersonation led to the revelation that Tyler had “only heard one Corpse song” in his life, which featured Valkyrae of 100 Thieves. “I didn’t know what I was listening, at first. I was like, what?” Tyler added on his first impressions of Corpse’s musical stylings. While Corpse hasn’t responded as of yet to Tyler’s critique, we’d be curious to see the two square off in Among Us, following Corpse’s April charity event. An avid gamer himself, Corpse joined late night host Jimmy Fallon, streaming alumni Sykkuno and Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo, to raised funds for Feeding America.

Tyler1 insults donator and questions why he’s giving him money – Dexerto
Tyler1 insults donator and questions why he’s giving him money Tyler1 let loose on an incessant viewer after they spammed his chat to read a donation they had sent, even calling them a “loser” after they wouldn’t stop begging him to respond. As one of the biggest streamers on Twitch, Tyler ‘tyler1‘ Steinkamp is used to receiving lots of donations from his tens of thousands of viewers, so many in fact that he often can’t respond to them all. For smaller streamers, receiving a donation is often the highlight of their day, but once you reach the level of tyler1, with over 2.6 million followers on the platform, some seem to become almost a nuisance – especially with the sense of entitlement they can give the donator. That’s not to say they aren’t appreciative at all, and even Tyler will take the time to thank any donations when he can, but he does have a history of lashing out at the more annoying fans. Even when a viewer donated him a whopping $100, he called them a “dumbass” for giving it to someone who clearly didn’t need it. When a viewer donated $5 on his October 29 stream though, and then proceeded to spam the chat with “WHY MY DONO NOT SHOWING” repeatedly, Steinkamp had had enough, telling him to: “Shut the f**k up.” “I’ve been live for ten minutes, and it’s just been autism!” Tyler1 exclaimed, before launching into a tirade against the incessant donator. “Kid, I’ll read your donation when it’s time! You hear me?! You’re a c**k loser anyway, you’ve donated to somebody who makes more than your parents combined! Just shut up and wait!” He then eventually did read the donation message, mocking that too. “He didn’t even send a good message, here’s what he said: ‘t1, please don’t leave for Mixer like all my other favorite streamers, frown.” Judging from the message, it seems the donator was genuinely looking for a response from Tyler, and when he didn’t get noticed, chose to simply spam the chat instead. The streamer then said that was the ‘second strike’ for him that day, and with one more he would “call it a day”, and then quickly timed out the user in a “pre-emptive” move, to prevent any more spamming.

Tyler1 hits top 1% of chess players worldwide a day after announcing birth of his first child – Dexerto
Tyler1 hits top 1% of chess players worldwide a day after announcing birth of his first child Twitch / Tyler1Twitch streamer Tyler1 may have just announced the birth of his baby daughter, but, a day later and he has already achieved another remarkable achievement. The streamer is currently ranked in the top 1% of chess players from earning a 1800 ELO rating. Tyler1 and fellow Twitch streamer Macaiyla revealed the birth of their newborn on April 19, who was born a week prior, as the long-term couple made the announcement. However, Tyler1 was up to something else in his time away. Not even 24 hours later after announcing the birth of his daughter Saiyler Rue Steinkamp, Tyler1 amazed his fans once again by reaching the significantly high ELO rating of 1805 in chess. This puts him firmly in the top 1% of players on Chess.com for Rapid Chess despite having only just reached 1700 ELO a month prior in March. According to the Chess.com leaderboards for the particular chess mode, this put him in the 99.16% percentile on April 20. Tyler first started taking chess more seriously when he entered the PogChamps 5 tournament, which was hosted by Chess.com in the middle of 2023. Despite not fully knowing which pieces moved where when he initially attended the event, he has been grinding ever since. In his short 9 month career, the League of Legends streamer has constantly shocked the chess community with his newfound success. This has even earned him respect from the likes of the International Master and chess creator Gotham Chess who called it “completely insane” after he earned his 1700 ELO rating. With Tyler1’s rank only continuing to rise as the months go by, who knows where he could end up in the world of competitive chess?

Tyler1 hits back at claims T1 ended their stream deal over “brand risk” worries – Dexerto
Tyler1 hits back at claims T1 ended their stream deal over “brand risk” worries Twitch: Tyler1 / T1 EsportsTyler ‘Tyler1’ Steinkamp has taken aim at claims popular esports org T1 ended their streaming partnership due to “brand risks” and how the notoriously volatile Twitch star is perceived in the gaming community. In a near-perfect twist of fate, Tyler1 (often referred to as “T1” on Twitch) signed with titanic South Korean esports organization T1 back in October 2020. Their partnership saw Tyler1 team up with undisputed League of Legends GOAT and three-time world champ Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, emblazon the T1 (once called SKT T1) logo across his streaming channels, and plug advertisements and reels for the famous esports org. Just 14 months later, however, T1 and T1 have parted ways. There’s no foul play though, Tyler1 says — the Twitch superstar has come out swinging against claims his status as a “brand risk” played a role in the separation. https://twitter.com/T1/status/1488633257390444548 According to the star League of Legends streamer, the parting of ways was “totally mutual.” The high-profile partnership had been a beneficial deal for both of them through 2020 and 2021, but both were looking for new options after the 14-month deal ended in January. “Yeah, we’re officially off T1,” he said. “Sad day guys, sad day. There was no reason, no. It was mutual,” the 26-year-old star went on to explain before seeing his chat flooded with comments disagreeing with him. “Typical. I was not kicked out. It’s not corporate talk, I swear!” The “dropped” claims continued, however, and Tyler1 hit a new pitch hitting back: “It’s not because I’m a brand risk. Actually, it’s not. I’m not a f**king brand risk!” Tyler1’s exit from the South Korean giant leaves him as a free agent again, in regards to esports orgs at least, and with his 200-hour-a-month Twitch contract as his main source of sponsored income. There’s every chance Steinkamp remains unsigned though. Signing with T1 was a match made in heaven, especially considering Tyler1’s love for Faker and one that likely won’t be repeated. On top of that, the 26-year-old boasts a whopping 4.7m followers on Twitch and cracks 20k subs a month, so any org signature would be gravy rather than necessary. No matter what though, LoL will be there. As Tyler says, he’s “officially, literally, figuratively, grammatically, lyrically, the face of League of Legends. Indisputably.”

Tyler1 hits back at IWillDominate after “slandering” claims – Dexerto
Tyler1 hits back at IWillDominate after “slandering” claims Twitch: tyler1 / Twitch: IWillDominateLeague of Legends streamers Christian ‘IWillDominate’ Rivera and Tyler ‘Tyler1’ Steinkamp have been caught up in controversy, with the former pro claiming Tyler1 has been “slandering” him. Now, the ADC-turned-jungler has fired back. Tyler1 and IWillDominate have been the subjects of a very public rift this week. Dom, a former pro jungler for Team Liquid, has slammed the solo queue star for “publicly slandering” him, saying the streamer’s “banter” in solo queue is outright toxic. However, Tyler1 isn’t taking the claims laying down. The streamer replied to Dom’s remarks just hours after he sent them, saying his fellow jungle main is taking it the “wrong way.” Sparks started flying on March 5 after a viewer in Dom’s Twitch chat asked whether the two streamers were on friendly terms with each other. Once upon a time they were, but things have changed in recent months. “Am I still friends with Tyler? Absolutely not,” Dom asserted. “Why would I be friends with somebody like that? That would not make sense. “Somebody goes live, publicly slanders you multiple times, lies, you play Twitch Rivals against them, the games you win [against] them they just permanently sh*t talk you, gets their community to sh*t on you permanently. Why would I be friends with someone like that?” He said that Tyler’s conduct in-game, as well as out of it, has stepped over the line of being banter, to the point of being toxic. “There’s banter between friends, like when me and Moe [Yassuo] banter, you can tell what banter is and when two people really dislike each other.” However, Tyler1 has hit back at Dom. The AD-carry-turned-jungler said Dom was taking his “banter” too seriously, and his intentions were never to talk down to the former pro. “Dom — no, he’s trolling,” he said. “I don’t even know what to say, he cannot be serious. It’s like when I sh*t talk in all chat, Dom, I don’t hate you. I’m not publicly slandering you, you idiot. You absolute idiot. You don’t need to get triggered, it’s literally banter. “God, there’s a wrong way to take it, and then there’s a right way to take it. Like me and Nightblue right now are bantering right, and Nightblue is throwing it back, and I’m throwing it to nightblue, like I don’t know what to say, it’s so insane.” The beef between the two streamers has spilled out into the public domain, with everyone taking sides. After a “hate thread” popped up on the subreddit ‘livestreamfail’, Dom stated he’s had to defend himself against “biased” pundits. “I don’t think it affects me like it used to but it sure is tiring,” he said on Twitter. “Most people can’t be unbiased, or don’t care to, and just want to have an opinion which is partly because of the way Reddit works.” Pretty much my conclusion is that most people can’t be unbiased or don’t care to and just want to have an opinion which is partly because of the way reddit works which is that the quicker you comment the more likely it is to be seen — Christian Rivera (@IWDominate) March 6, 2020 The two streamers don’t seem to be making up to each other any time soon, and while one could hope for the storm to pass over, their communities might be fighting tooth and nail for their favorite streamer for some time yet.

Tyler1 has priceless reaction after returning home to no gifts from viewers – Dexerto
Tyler1 has priceless reaction after returning home to no gifts from viewers Tyler ‘Tyler1‘ Steinkamp might be one of Twitch’s biggest streamers, but it turns out he might have overestimated just how much his fans like getting him gifts. Tyler returned to his mother’s house for the first time in eight months, and she’d told him he had a lot of mail waiting for him from fans. He returned home and talked about the mail he had received, but it sounded like he expected a whole lot more, after being away for so long. He brought up the fact he’d been away from home for eight months, leaving fans plenty of time to send gifts for him. You’ve got mail! Tyler draws many viewers on Twitch, but it doesn’t look like that success he found on the platform translated all that well into receiving fan mail from viewers. “I fucking came home, I was like ‘Mom how much mail do I have?’” he asked. “Because people, they’ve been fucking telling me ‘Yo, T1 I sent you a box to your P.O. Box blah blah blah,’ I come fucking home, I have two boxes. I was gone for eight months, I have two boxes. Really? That’s it? No fan mail, no letters … I know the channel’s dying but show me some love. When Tyler rages, he usually sticks to League of Legends, but this time, the rage carried over into real life. Jokes aside, we’re sure Tyler is appreciative of the gifts he received. To be fair, Tyler hasn’t lived there in nearly a year, so that could be a reason fans stopped sending gifts. Perhaps this outburst on stream could actually have the added bonus of fans sending additional gifts in an effort to avoid a reaction like this again. One thing seems certain – his mom won’t be getting any more mail for him.

Tyler1 hilariously explodes on “loser” viewer hyping up New Year’s countdown – Dexerto
Tyler1 hilariously explodes on “loser” viewer hyping up New Year’s countdown Twitch: loltyler1Twitch star Tyler ‘Tyler1’ Steinkamp exploded on a “loser” viewer who was hyping up the New Years’ countdown while watching his Twitch stream. There aren’t many bigger streamers than Tyler1, who’s known for his trash talk and hilarious raging moments while playing Riot’s popular MOBA, League of Legends, for hours on end. While the world was reflecting and celebrating the beginning of a new year, Tyler1 was sitting playing League of Legends. And, when a viewer started hyping up the New Years’ countdown, T1 was left less than impressed. With only a couple of minutes left till midnight on December 31, about to mark the beginning of a New Year, Tyler1 caught a viewer in his chat counting down. The message in his chat made Tyler explode and the League of Legends streamer went on to hit out at the “loser” viewer. “Why are you getting hyped up? What’s so hype about it,” asked T1. “You’re going to wake up in the morning as much as a loser as you went to bed. There’s no difference man. Went to bed a loser, woke up a loser. The 1st, the 31st, 35th, the 2nd, the 3rd you’re a loser. It doesn’t matter man! Holy sh*t.” Tyler1 casually continued his night by playing League of Legends like usual and began the New Year on Summoners Rift. Next December 31, T1 viewers will be hesitant to hype up the start of the New Year after the hilarious rant from the streamer.

Tyler1 gives perfect response to strange Halo Reach ban glitch – Dexerto
Tyler1 gives perfect response to strange Halo Reach ban glitch Popular Twitch streamer, Tyler ‘Tyler1’ Steinkamp, was caught off-guard when he was issued with an ‘Easy Anti-Cheat’ message while playing Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Halo’s venture away from the realm of console has gotten off to a hot start. With The Master Chief Collection currently standing as the number-one selling game on Steam – and Halo: Reach sitting at a respectable third – Halo has cemented its place in the domain of PC gaming. A host of big names decided to turn their hand to Microsoft’s hit series, as it made its way onto the Steam Marketplace on December 3. Among which was Tyler1 — the League of Legends player who’s notorious for his energetic commentary. Since his return to LoL after his ban, Tyler hasn’t veered too far away from Summoner’s Rift. Given his proficiency in-game, the American has dedicated the vast majority of his time to Riot’s flagship title. However, in a rare effort to step away from the MOBA, Steinkamp turned his hand to Halo’s Master Chief Collection. Yet, while he appeared to have picked up the game in a matter of hours, Halo’s servers dubbed Tyler1’s abilities to be akin to that of someone trying to cheat the system. After landing a headshot on his opponent, his game immediately flagged up an ‘anti-cheat’ message, which read: “You were kicked. Easy Anti-Cheat has detected a problem. Please visit easy.ac/support for help on resolving the issue.” After reading the message somewhat stunned, Tyler1 said: “I think we just got banned,” and following a short pause, Tyler added: “Am I banned?” “I mean, I get it,” Steinkamp said. “I’m a f**king freaking of nature – athletic freak – and my gameplay implies [that] I’m cheating.” In typical Tyler1 fashion, the American flashed his peripherals at his camera while explaining that he couldn’t possibly be cheating. Although the Easy Anti-Cheat message kicked Tyler1 from his game, it could be that the streamer hopped straight back into another game shortly afterwards, in a bid to improve his ELO rank within competitive modes. Evidently, the above is an issue with the game’s servers or perhaps a hardware issue. It could be that he just needs to check for corrupted memory or perhaps an unknown game file from the installation, according to Epic Games’ website.

Tyler1’s girlfriend reveals what she would’ve done with the $10k he lost – Dexerto
Tyler1’s girlfriend reveals what she would’ve done with the $10k he lost Popular League of Legends stream Tyler ‘Tyler1’ Steinkamp lost a bet to Moe ‘Yassuo’ that cost him $10,000. That’s a lot of money and Tyler’s girlfriend explained what she could have done with that much cash. League of Legends streamer Tyler1, who is well known in the LoL scene and even outside of the community due to his rage-induced episodes, recently lost $10,000 to fellow streamer yassuo. The terms of the bet were the two streamers had one month to see who could climb the highest in League of Legends beginning with an unranked account, but Tyler wasn’t allowed to use Draven and Yassuo wasn’t allowed to use Yasuo. Tyler1 promises he’ll be back better than before That’s a big chunk of change to lose in a single bet but Tyler has promised to come back stronger than before in a motivational speech he gave on his Twitch channel. Tyler’s housemate and girlfriend Macaiyla was very disappointed about him losing the money and she explained what she could have done with it during one of her recent streams. Macaiyla could have a new chin “Dude I cannot believe Tyler lost fucking 10K man, that 10K is my money chat,” she said. “Why am I saying it’s my money? Because I am Tyler.” It seems that she was more choked up about it than Tyler was but she goes into further detail explaining what she would have done with the money. “I could have bought a chin surgery for that money,” she mentioned. “You know, Tyler really didn’t think about us, it’s unbelievable. I could have had a normal chin by now.” No matter what way you slice it, $10,000 is a lot of money to lose and could buy a person a lot of things. While Macaiyla was certainly joking, it’s still interesting to hear what someone would do with that kind of money.

Tyler1’s girlfriend brutally roasts Dr Disrespect after donator asks about cheating – Dexerto
Tyler1’s girlfriend brutally roasts Dr Disrespect after donator asks about cheating Macaiyla Twitch / Dr Disrespect TwitchTwitch streamer ‘Macaiyla’ was asked for help to maneuver a sticky situation they found themselves in when she retorted with brutal words at the expense of the prominent personality that is Dr Disrespect. Broadcasters on the site routinely give advice or feedback to anybody in their Twitch Chat who are brave enough to publicize their problems to streamers and audiences. But it didn’t seem like Macaiyla was interested in mincing her words when someone brought up their stint of infidelity on her stream. Macaiyla was stunned when a member of her chat revealed they had cheated on their girlfriend over the weekend. A harsh response out of no where The streamer took a moment before suggesting she had nothing to tell her viewer, instead referring them to Dr Disrespect who famously revealed his extra marital affairs in a brief stream. “‘I cheated on my girlfriend this weekend can you tell me some comforting words to make me feel better,’” Macaiyla read before replying. “Uhh, you should ask Doc for some comforting words. I’m sure he can help you out with that.” Macaiyla was shocked after reading the donation request, but it looked like her Twitch Chat were even more surprised from her response, with many of them spamming “oh shit” or “forsenCD.” What if Macaiyla got cheated on? Later in the stream Macaiyla wondered if her boyfriend, popular League of Legends streamer ‘Tyler1,’ would cheat on her while being abroad in Germany at TwitchCon 2019. In thinking about the possibility of Tyler cheating on her, she reacted with an incredibly NSFW response of what she would do if she was cheated on. “Do you guys think Tyler is cheating on me right now while he’s alone,” Macaiyla said. “Fuck it, if he does I’ll go cheat on him. Actually I’ll get double penetration. Fuck it let’s help Eric, if Tyler ever cheats on me, I’ll…. Never mind. No, I’m not even saying that, that’s so weird man.” She immediately regretted the idea of cheating on Tyler with his brother Eric ‘Erobb221,’ calling it “literally incest.” Though it seems like IRL streamer ‘GreekGodX’ would be an option for Macaiyla, later saying: “yeah, fuck it, I’ll suck Greek’s dick. I already sent Greek nudes. Fuck it, there’s no harm in doing shit with Greek at this point.” Macaiyla was very imaginative about the possibilities if Tyler ever cheated on her, though she still had some harsh words for Doc when recalling his affair.

Tyler1 explodes during $150K League tourney after losing to MrBeast twice – Dexerto
Tyler1 explodes during $150K League tourney after losing to MrBeast twice Tyler1Twitch star Tyler1 raged at his team after dropping back-to-back games during a League of League charity tournament which saw MrBeast and Ninja square off on the rift. On July 9, stars MrBeast and Ninja faced off in person in a $150k League of Legends tournament for charity. Each squad was filled with streaming superstars like Tyler1, Ludwig, Doublelife, and many more. Tyler1 played for Ninja’s team, and after their squad lost two games in a row, he let his team know how he really felt. Tyler1 roasts teammates during charity League event T1 played in the top lane for the first two matches alongside squad members Ninja, Ludwig, Doublelift, and Snapnap, each game resulting in losses. After the two games, MrBeast and Ninja agreed to a third and final match that would be worth $50k, all going to charity. Tyler said before the match, “Listen, I’m not gonna blame my team or my ‘semi-pro’ AD Carry for getting 2 v 2ed by MrBeast and Emiru. I’m not gonna blame them, I’m not gonna blame my zero kill participation jungler right now. I’m not gonna blame them because we’re gonna run it back and win this next game.” Doublelift hopped on the mic and said, “MrBeast offered me a lifetime supply of Feastables chocolates, so I had to do it. Sorry.” Tyler replied, “That’s where your career is now, huh? A box of chocolates is all it takes.” The skill, strategy and teamwork of Team @MrBeast may be what won them the #UltimateCrown belt, but the infighting on Team @Ninja is what lost it for the favorites @loltyler1 is LIVID at his team right now 😡 pic.twitter.com/8WAE4i72eQ — Crown (@crownchannel) July 10, 2022 Luckily for Tyler and co., they managed to nab a victory in the third match as the entire team role swapped allowing Tyler to play the support role. He almost solo-lost the game again.” Some final words from @loltyler1 at #UltimateCrown “”I’m not going to lie, @LudwigAhgren is an absolute liability”” pic.twitter.com/NcqZsBOsO1 — Crown (@crownchannel) July 10, 2022 Despite what Tyler believed was a poor performance from the YouTuber, they managed to come out on top.

Tyler1 finds hilarious hidden insult in fan’s artwork – Dexerto
Tyler1 finds hilarious hidden insult in fan’s artwork Riot Games/LoL EsportsStreamer Tyler ‘Tyler1’ Steinkamp received a massive shock when he looked at an impressive piece of fan art – only to find that the fan had roasted him with a hidden message. Tyler1 is a massively popular Twitch streamer, best known for playing and raging at any game he can find – especially when it comes to League of Legends, regularly entertaining his viewers with his exceedingly hilarious outbursts. However, Twitch chat can sometimes be a fickle bunch and will do their best to mock all streamers – and even T1 isn’t excluded from that, as his viewers regularly poke fun at his height, usually ending up with him screaming at them. It was no different on February 18 when a fan asked the streamer to look at his fan art. Tyler obliged, putting the fan’s impressive work on the stream for all of his viewers to see. However, he got a shock when he decided to take a closer look. The streamer seemed pretty pleased with the artwork until he zoomed in and looked it up and down, trying to figure out how the photo had been created. “Wait, come on,” he said, lost for words after discovering that the collar portion of the portrait contained the word ‘midget’ – taking shots at Tyler’s height. “Dude, what is this? Come on man, you didn’t have to type that in there,” T1 added. “Really? I was going to say something nice too, then you gotta toss that in there for no reason. Good one, asshole.” Read More: xQc gets so scared he almost jumps out of his chair during Five Night’s at Freddy’s stream – Tyler’s response was clearly in humor as he admitted to wanting to compliment the fan’s work before he found that it was actually poking fun at him.

Tyler1 explains why he’s worried he’s now irrelevant – Dexerto
Tyler1 explains why he’s worried he’s now irrelevant Popular Twitch streamer Tyler1 came to a sudden realization while playing League of Legends – that he may not be as popular as he once was. The streamer, whose return to Twitch in January 2018 garnered record breaking viewership figure at the time, worries that he is now not so relevant. Best known as a League of Legends streamer, and the most popular in this category, it would be expected that LoL players would be overjoyed to match in the same game as Tyler1. 500However, after Tyler1 joined a ranked match, every player in the game left shortly after, leaving the streamer bewildered and surprised – “dude, am I washed up?” Typically, when players get into the same game as a big name streamer, they would do their all to stay in the game and, as Tyler1 puts it, “get their clout” – but not on this occasion. “People just don’t even care?! T1 is in your game and everyone leaves lobby instantly. Dude, am I washed up? Every single player left the fucking game. Wait a minute, am I that irrelevant?” It’s no secret that League of Legends is no longer the ruling game on Twitch as it once was, as the emergence of battle royale and games like Fortnite and PUBG took over. Tyler1 has remained loyal to League of Legends, but many of his fans tune in for his personality and often controversial moments, rather than purely gameplay. He recently called out his own viewers for not being active enough, asking “am I view-botting?” as his poll on what fast food was best only received 700 votes.

Tyler1 explains why xQc’s streams prove he’s crazy – Dexerto
Tyler1 explains why xQc’s streams prove he’s crazy Twitch: loltyler1/xQcOWPopular League of Legends streamer Tyler ‘Tyler1’ Steinkamp has explained why he believes Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel is actually a “psychopath” for using text-to-speech on his streams. Aside from just entertaining fans with their gameplay and reactions, some Twitch streamers use a text-to-speech system that reads out any donation message they receive during a broadcast – no matter how crude they might be – to also liven things up. For some like xQc, it can all get a bit hectic as his chat spams sounds down his ear. Because of that, not all streamers opt to use the system. One of those non-users is Tyler1, who explained why he believes the former Overwatch professional could be a “psychopath” because of his use of TTS. During his March 9 stream, the popular League of Legends player had been taking fan questions from donations while waiting for a match to load up, when one viewer asked why he doesn’t use text-to-speech for his donations. That led him on to talk about xQc. “Dude, I am convinced [that] xQc is a psychopath, I’m convinced,” the streamer said before further explaining his thought. “Imagine every time you talk, there is just a sound right in the back every time you talk and it’s just constantly going seven, seven, seven – like that’s all you hear in the background. “He’s a psychopath,” Steinkamp added, though he admitted that he could be wrong with his theory. “Maybe he doesn’t have it enabled for his headset.” Of course, even though he might think it or even believe it, Tyler1 can’t exactly prove his claim, but it seems as if he won’t be following the former Overwatch pro’s use of text-to-speech anytime soon. Though it may seem a bit crazy and ludicrous from the outside, xQc and his chat usually pull off some pretty hilarious moments with the TTS system – so it isn’t as bad as it actually might seem to be.

Tyler1 explains why he’ll never return to full-time variety Twitch streaming – Dexerto
Tyler1 explains why he’ll never return to full-time variety Twitch streaming Twitch: LolTyler1Twitch star Tyler ‘Tyler1’ Steinkamp detailed why he will never return to streaming variety games on his channel despite his fans demanding it. Tyler1 hasn’t streamed variety content full-time since he was unbanned from League of Legends all the way back in 2018. At the time, the popular broadcaster was serving a permanent suspension from the MOBA, one which was thought to never be lifted. Over the year plus the streamer was banned he switched to streaming a variety of games on his channel, but quickly ended that once he was allowed back on Summoner’s Rift. Since then, his fans have demanded the variety streams make a return, but now, he’s shut down those dreams for good. Tyler1 claims he’ll “never” stream variety again On September 16, the 27-year-old was live on Twitch when he made the declaration that he would never go back to being a variety streamer full-time. He said, “I will never play full-time variety ever in my life, just out of pure spite to anybody for however many years people have been spamming variety. I will never do that.” “I might play a variety game here and there, but just out of spite, I will never do it.” Tyler went on to say that the year he streamed variety was a terrible experience, and he claims it would be even worse now. He also explained how hard it would be to meet the 10 hours of streaming he broadcasts daily with variety content, pointing out how there are barely any top-level Twitch streamers who stream variety. Despite his fan’s incessant cries for him to return to variety, it seems like that dream is now officially dead.

Tyler1 expertly roasts MrBeast after teaming up for League of Legends stream – Dexerto
Tyler1 expertly roasts MrBeast after teaming up for League of Legends stream Riot Games, Twitch: tyler1, YouTube: MrBeastLeague of Legends streamer Tyler1 gave YouTube star Mr Beast a taste of his trademark trash talk after they linked up with former LoL pro Yilang ‘Doublelift’ Peng for some games. Worlds surprisingly collided when iconic League of Legends Twitch streamer Tyler1 invited YouTube philatropist MrBeast and former LCS ADC Doublelift to join him on his quest for Summoner’s Rift supremacy. The explosive LoL star quickly became the butt of MrBeast and Doublelift’s jokes, though, as the two playfully brought up the infamous “short Tyler1” meme. Turns out that, as can be expected, Tyler was determined that the duo weren’t going to have the last laugh, as he bid farewell to his YouTube companion with a pretty scathing roast. Tyler1 roasts MrBeast after League of Legends stream As the battle for Summoner’s Rift slowly came to a close, MrBeast announced that he had to leave. “Boys, I’ve got to go. That’s enough League for today. It was fun!” he said. Reclining in his chair and getting into prime roast position, Tyler replied “yeah it was man,” before leaving the YouTuber with quite the parting gesture. “Closing words here, don’t get it twisted, okay,” he said. “You ain’t s**t, kid.” From there, MrBeast simply responded with a satirical “I agree, I am really good at League… Later!” before dropping off the call. Doublelift noted that too, adding “oh he just f**king insta-left, he was sick of your s**t dude,” before Tyler playfully clapped back with “I don’t think so dude.” Of course, Tyler was clearly just trolling in his usual style, but it seems like MrBeast wasn’t prepared for the self-professed king of LoL to close out the stream with quite as much sass. A similar fate befell Riot Games’ CEO at the Global Premier for Arcane, the franchise’s Netflix show. After a fun Tyler troll went hilariously wrong, he’s etched himself into history as League’s biggest troll – even if his jokes sometimes fail to land!

Tyler1 dumbfounded over Shitcamp 2022: “What is going on?” – Dexerto
Tyler1 dumbfounded over Shitcamp 2022: “What is going on?” Tyler1Twitch star Tyler ‘Tyler1’ Steinkamp was shocked at footage from Shitcamp 2022 when he saw his brother Erobb221 and other streamers wearing makeup and dresses. Shitcamp 2022 is shaping up to be the biggest yet. The annual event, hosted by QTCinderella, gathers all the top streamers from Twitch for a weekend of fun and ridiculousness. Tons of the biggest names in streaming made it out to the event in Hasan, Valkyrae, Ludwig, and many more. Streamer Tyler1, whose brother Erobb221 was in attendance, decided to tune in and see how the event was going when he was instantly stunned at the footage. Tyler1 stunned by footage of Shitcamp 2022 On September 7, the premiere League of Legends streamer pulled up footage of the event on his live stream and reacted to it along with his audience. In the video, his brother Erobb can be seen wearing a blue dress, and QT applying tons of makeup to his face. The camera panned to show other streamers AustinShow and Hasan also wearing dresses. Tyler said, “What kind of weird ass sh*t is going on over here?! What is going on, I don’t even wanna know bro. What the f*ck.” He continued, “Twitch.tv in 2022, boys. We all can’t just sit here quietly playing our games? Like, come on man. No offense, you do what makes you happy. I’m not one to judge, but oh my.” Tyler finished his thoughts on the clip and said, “I thought it was just Eric. Then the camera slowly pans and op there’s another one, another two, another three.” Shortly after Tyler reacted to the event his brother Erobb221 was banned from Twitch, barring him from appearing in further Shitcamp content until his ban is lifted.

Tyler1 embarrasses viewer watching his stream in a Waffle House – Dexerto
Tyler1 embarrasses viewer watching his stream in a Waffle House League of Legends streamer on Twitch, as fans regularly tune in to his streams to see him dominate opponents with both his in-game skills and trash talk. Yet, sometimes it’s the viewers who drop into his crosshairs rather than opposing players. Plenty of fans do it intentionally, pushing T1 to the point of no return with their chat spam. Others accidentally make themselves into targets, dropping donations and giving the streamer room to roast them. That happened during his May 20 stream, as one fan dropped a donation, stating that they were loving the broadcast and were enjoying it in a Waffle House restaurant. But, they made the mistake of asking T1 to ‘keep it down’ because they were watching with a speaker. In typical Tyler1 fashion, the streamer immediately flipped the situation on the donator, yelling: “I’m about to dine and dash in this bitch! I ain’t paying no fucking bill! You can’t fucking stop me.” He didn’t stop there either. Tyler continued to make out as if he was sat in the Waffle House himself, turning his focus to the staff. “The service was fucking trash!” he finished, looking to prompt a response from someone. Ultimately, T1 laughed off what he had done and told the donator “I got you,” before continuing on with his stream – even though he couldn’t confirm whether or not his screaming had just gone out to a public restaurant, or if the fan was just pulling his leg. Regardless, at least Tyler1’s fans got yet another hilarious highlight clip out of his stream – even if it might serve as a warning for those who try the same in the future. He clearly isn’t worried about embarrassing his own viewers.

Tyler1 and CoD pro Clayster hilariously roast each other ahead of ESPN Esports matchup – Dexerto
Tyler1 and CoD pro Clayster hilariously roast each other ahead of ESPN Esports matchup Tyler1 TwitchESPN’s ‘Esports64’ bracket is already merging worlds between people in different spaces of the industry as streamer Tyler1 and CoD pro Clayster have thrown light jabs in light of this year’s seeding. ESPN kicked off their third consecutive bracket on March 26 to determine the most popular figure in esports, and the friendly competition is already heating up with numerous personalities. During a broadcast on Twitch, Tyler1 was looking over the complete bracket for the 64 entrants this year, when he saw his name paired with eUnited’s Clayster which led to a hilarious reaction that sent Tyler to quickly lookup his opponent. At first, Tyler was dumbfounded to find he was seeded at the 9th spot in the Inferno division, but after coming to terms with the seeding his attention went straight to Clay. “Who am I against,” Tyler said before seeing Clayster’s Twitter profile. “Who the f–, Who? Motherfucker is like 35 years old. The fuck you mean, who? Alright this better be a curbstomp, I’m not even fucking lying.” After looking up his rival, the League of Legends streamer he called the matchup a “freebie” and was confident that he would be able to push past the 8th seeded Clay to make it to Round 2. Tyler’s words reached Clayster who had a quick reply for T1 that seemed to be a callback for the popular meme that revolved around the “Reformed” streamer’s height, saying: “If I’m 35, [you’re] 4’5.” Tame in its brevity, Clayster’s dig was met with hysterical reactions and was a suitable reply from one of CoD’s best trash-talkers. ESPN formed a spicy match up when they put the two outspoken personalities together, and it’ll be fun to see where the good humor escalates when voting for the lower left bracket begins on March 27.

Tyler1 delivers another priceless ad read for sponsored Twitch stream – Dexerto
Tyler1 delivers another priceless ad read for sponsored Twitch stream Tyler1/Riot GamesLeague of Legends streamer Tyler1’s sponsored broadcast for Doritos went exactly how you might have expected, leading to a handful of hilarious moments. Although we are weeks away from the launch of League Season 12, Tyler1 hasn’t stopped grinding the game. In fact, he’s been streaming so much League he hinted it could lead him to early retirement, as his contract with Twitch has him broadcasting over 50 hours a week. However, the Twitch star is still streaming his regular hours for now and even picked up a new sponsor on his latest broadcast: Doritos. Tyler1’s hilarious sponsored stream His sponsored stream was hosted on December 23, when he plastered a massive Doritos logo on his screen. With the humongous Doritos logo taking up the entire scream Tyler said, “Sorry, has to be there boys. It’s a sponsor requirement. Just tilt your head, act like it’s not there.” Later in the match, the streamer narrowly avoided death during a tower dive and managed to turn the play around for an improbable double-kill. After the play, he screamed: “Taking it to another level! Sponsored by f**kin’ DORITOS!” Tyler is known for incorporating his sponsored segments with incredible effort, often screaming the ad reads at his opponents and in high-pressure situations. Although the ad reads were hilarious, Tyler went 1-6 in his sponsored solo queue matches. This continues his tradition of losing during sponsored segments, as the last time he was sponsored by Doritos he went a miserable 3-15.

Tyler1 challenges chess master Levy Rozman to a match: “I’ll beat this guy first try” – Dexerto
Tyler1 challenges chess master Levy Rozman to a match: “I’ll beat this guy first try” Twitch: Tyler1Tyler1 has challenged chess master Levy Rozman to a match, with grandmasters Magnus Carlsen and Hikaru Nakamura being challenged as well. Tyler1 is a lot of things, but being unconfident is not one of them. Throughout his streaming career, his brimming confidence has taken him to the peaks of League of Legends, as he became the second-ever person to hit Challenger in all five roles, all done out of spite. And it seems that confidence has followed him into PogChamps 5, which is currently ongoing. As the competition grows stronger for Tyler, the commentary team, largely made up of internationally awarded chess players, has critiqued Tyler’s play. This set off a confident rant in which Tyler challenged Levy to a chess match, with Magnus and Hikaru being thrown into the mix as well. As Levy on the commentary team explained that Tyler could make some improvements on his openings, Tyler replied, “shut the f*** up with your backseat gaming.” He continues his rant, “Who are you, bro? Put me 1v1 against this guy. I’ll put 10 grand that I beat – I’ll beat this guy first try, who’s this guy to say he can beat me in chess? You haven’t played me bro.” He goes on to challenge other masters of chess, with Hikaru and Magnus getting challenged. “You could put me against that Hikaru guy, or the Magnus Carlsen guy, I will body them, bro.” Tyler explained his chess skills, “I level up to my opponent, by the way. I match the competition.” Further explaining that whoever he plays, he would equally perform to their skills. For context of how good Levy, Hikaru, and Magnus are; Levy is currently ranked 3591 worldwide by FIDE. Although it seems low, he has an International and National Master chess title. Hikaru is currently rated by FIDE as the second-best player in the world and is the best American player. Magnus is rated by FIDE as the number one chess player in the world. So if Tyler really were to “body” Hikaru or Magnus, or even Levy, it would make Tyler one of the best chess players in the world.

Tyler1 claims it’s viewers “fault” if they gamble because streamers do – Dexerto
Tyler1 claims it’s viewers “fault” if they gamble because streamers do Twitch: Tyler1Twitch star Tyler1 has revealed his opinion regarding Kick and gambling ads, as he argues it’s the viewers’ fault for choosing to gamble and not the streamers’ fault. As Kick continues to grow increasingly popular and sign more and more streamers, the platform has been increasingly criticized for its gambling links. Even though the platform – which is backed by Stake, the online casino – has recently released an update that allows users to block gambling streams, some streamers are still skeptical of Kick as they want to stay away from that type of content. This includes Pokimane who spoke against xQc and Kick when his $100 million deal was announced. Tyler1 has now opened up and expressed his thoughts on the matter, where he argues it’s the viewers’ fault for wanting to gamble in the first place. Tyler1 argues people gambling isn’t streamers’ fault In a recent stream, the League of Legends streamer was asked if he was against the gambling ads on Kick. Tyler answered: “No, I’m not anti-gambling. On the philosophy of what gambling is, if people are stupid enough to gamble and lose their money, that’s their own problem. “Especially if all these streamers, remember like ‘don’t gamble’ blah blah blah,’ they go into gambling and they lose it all, they deserve to lose it and that’s their life lesson,” he said. “If people are like ‘but what about the kids?’, my whole thing is, if a kid is stupid enough to take their mom’s credit card and number one, that’s bad parenting and they should do better, and again it’s a good life lesson, while they’re young, that they’ll learn and it’ll benefit them in the future. “I don’t care if people gamble.” Even though Tyler’s thoughts differ from a lot of other streamers, it’s a stance that is backed by a fair few viewers and other content creators. It’s an argument that has cropped up before, especially when gambling was prevalent on Twitch and numerous streamers had referral codes for casinos. Twitch has since clamped down on that, which has spawned Kick and helped it grow.

Tyler1 challenged by renowned chess Master responsible for his opening – Dexerto
Tyler1 challenged by renowned chess Master responsible for his opening Tyler1Tyler1 has been challenged by renowned women’s Chess Master Anna Cramling who created the opening the streamer has used throughout his insane rise. Despite only picking up chess 10 months ago, Tyler1 has quickly made his way to the top of the competitive ladder, gaining a jaw-dropping 1900 Elo and cementing himself as part of the top 0.5% of all players globally. This all started when he challenged the likes of Hikaru and Magnus Carlsen to a match, and now, it looks like he could very well be getting his first test against a true chess Master. Women’s chess Master Anna Cramling has challenged Tyler to a match, but only when he reaches 2000 Elo. In a stream reviewing some of Tyler’s games, Cramling was surprised by Tyler’s usage of the Cow Opening, the opening that she created. Notably, she was impressed that the streamer had the theory down pat and was even improving on it. “He’s playing so well. He improved the theory,” She said. After which she promised to send him a challenge. “I will send him a challenge, if he gets up to 2000 [Elo]… I will send him a challenge. I don’t know if he’ll accept it, but I will try to get a match with Tyler1.” Cramling even doubled down on her challenge, replying to a Dexerto tweet about it, “Let’s do it.” Of course, it has to be stated that Cramling is objectively a superior chess player to Tyler in many regards, as the streamer is still relatively new to the game. Not only does she have a much higher Elo, but she is the creator of the opening Tyler likes using. Currently, Tyler’s rating on Chess.com is 1854, taking a dip from 1900 after a few losses, but knowing how hard he is grinding, we may see this match in the not too distant future.

Tyler1 embarrasses fan trying to roast him on Twitter – Dexerto
Tyler1 embarrasses fan trying to roast him on Twitter Twitch: Tyler1Popular League of Legends streamer Tyler ‘tyler1’ Steinkamp brutally hit back at a Twitter user after they tried to roast him, much to the amusement of his watching audience. Tyler1 is well known for his explosive personality and hilarious clips, regularly screaming and shouting his way through streams, often voicing his frustrations at LoL, the game he streams almost exclusively. While streaming on October 11, the 24-year-old brutally hit back at a fan on Twitter, who tried to mock him for his music knowledge, after he apparently misunderstood the Worlds 2019 theme. As expected, Steinkamp had a few choice words for his critic. “So this guy on Twitter,” Tyler explained. “He said ‘Tyler1 is a fucking idiot for not understanding what the Phoenix music video fully entails. Yeah, you may be adept at computer knowledge but you lack 0 musical understanding here.” Read More: Kelsey Moser: First Seed Curse – “So I thought, well Alex,” Tyler responded. “That was a pretty fucking alpha message – I wonder what demons you’ve conquered. So I looked at his profile… let’s just say yeah.” The streamer clicks over to Alex’s Twitter profile, which features a number of anime art, some of which is explicit in nature. To avoid showing anything that could incur a ban, Tyler quickly clicks off, but summarizes: “Alex… you’re a goddamn loser.” The tweet was in reference to the Phoenix Music Video that was released on October 8 on the official League of Legends YouTube channel. The song features Caitlin Russo and Chrissy Costanza and is intended to promote the League of Legends World Championships, which take place from October 2 to November 19. Tyler1’s viewers found the whole incident hilarious; clearly accustomed to seeing Tyler hit back at any fans who are brave enough to take him on. Tyler1 breaks down why he “”loves”” anxiety and his crazy way of coping – Dexerto
Tyler1 breaks down why he “”loves”” anxiety and his crazy way of coping Anxiety can be a tricky mental affliction for people to cope with, so Twitch streamer Tyler1 gave a peak into how he deals with the problem whenever he feels the nerves are getting to him. Anyone can suffer from bouts with anxiety, especially younger crowds these days. So it was a refreshing turn of pace when Twitch’s most popular Reformed streamer talked about what he does in the rare occasion of uncontrollable angst. During an April 22 broadcast, Tyler1 was getting hyped to start off his stream on a good note by giving his audience an alternative method of coping with the occasional episode of anxiety in a strange but wholesome way. How does Tyler1 cope with anxiety? Though sometimes anxiety can be crippling for a person, Tyler1 tries to use the nerves he sometimes senses to propel himself by taking a borderline terrifying approach to the feelings. “I literally go to the mirror [when I feel anxiety,] and I just start laughing,” Tyler1 said before exploding into a roar. “’What is wrong, you pussy?!’ And it fixes it everytime.” The methodology is very similar to normal affirmations people typically give themselves before the start of a day, but with a very “Tyler” twist. The streamer continued by giving a closer look at the responses he gives to the feelings of angst that can come over him at times. “I was in the fucking bathroom today just yelling, ‘Let’s go!’ on the fucking toilet. ‘Let’s fucking go! Whew! That’s it!? That’s all you can give me?! You think that’s gonna stop me?! You gotta be kidding.’ Straight fucking laughing,” Tyler1 said. Tyler can sometimes get anxiety The streamer said he sometimes gets anxiety after taking some of his dietary supplement Blood Rush, but even then it’s only so often, saying “once every two months.” But when Tyler1 senses those feelings creeping over him, he quickly sees it as an opportunity to bolster himself with vigorous affirmations that makes him “love” anxiety. “I love when I get that anxiety,” Tyler1 said. “Because it’s a mental check. It happens to me once every two months, honestly. I love it. I love it.” Tyler1’s approach to anxiety can come across as off-putting to some, but he says it’s a good way to instantly use the nerves to one’s advantage instead of it going against them.

Tyler1 and Macaiyla reveal heartbreaking details of life-threatening miscarriage – Dexerto
Tyler1 and Macaiyla reveal heartbreaking details of life-threatening miscarriage Instagram: macaiylaSharing the devastating news on Twitter, Macaiyla has announced that she and Tyler1 have lost their first baby after going through an ectopic pregnancy. Popular streamer Tyler ‘Tyler1’ Steinkamp and his girlfriend Macaiyla have been trying to start their family since February this year. The couple found out they were expecting their first child in March, and had recently revealed the news to their family. However, Macaiyla revealed via Twitter on June 27 the heart-breaking details of the couple’s loss after going through a life-threatening miscarriage. In the post, Macaiyla explains that Tyler drove her to the emergency room after experiencing the “worst pain of [her] life” on June 17. Once there, doctors revealed the devastating news that the couple was going to lose their baby. Macaiyla was going through an ectopic pregnancy and would need to undergo emergency surgery. An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg implants outside of the uterus, most often in a fallopian tube. Macaiyla’s rupture was so severe that she lost almost half of her blood, required two blood transfusions, and lost one of her fallopian tubes during surgery. “This whole process has been extremely hard for the both of us,” Macaiyla shared. Earlier this month on June 21, Macaiyla posted to Twitter thanking Tyler for his constant support. She asked fans to “show some love to him whenever you can.” It is now believed that this post was regarding the couple’s miscarriage. Despite losing a tube during surgery, Macaiyla revealed she will still be able to have children in the future, going on to assure fans that “We are still able to start a family and plan to do so once I am fully healed”. We wish Macaiyla a speedy recovery and send our deepest condolences to the couple.

Tyler1 and xQc get into hysterical argument after Minecraft Monday win – Dexerto
Tyler1 and xQc get into hysterical argument after Minecraft Monday win Twitch: xQcOW / Mojang / Twitch: loltyler1Tyler ‘Overwatch pro secured a match victory during Minecraft Monday. Daniel ‘KEEMSTAR’ Keem’s Minecraft Monday tournaments pit Twitch’s biggest content creators against each other as teams of two take part in Survival Games matches, a battle royale-style mode where the last duo standing are crowned the winner of the match. When xQc and partner m0xy won the final match of the day though, Tyler1 couldn’t be happy for his streaming colleague, instead fuming at the Canadian and his teammate for finding success in the tournament. Tyler1 was fuming when xQc and m0xy won the final match of the day. The pair found themselves in a 2v2 scenario, with both teams armored and tooled up for a final battle with victory on the line. Diamond sword in hand, xQc and m0xy slashed their way through their opponents, celebrating wildly with screams of “Let’s go!” as they nabbed their first ever win in Minecraft Monday. Tyler1 was less impressed though, immediately calling the pair out for taking the game too seriously, apparently upset that xQc and m0xy had played to win, unlike himself and teammate GreekGodx who have notoriously struggled their way through the tournaments. “You two are disgusting” screamed the LoL streamer in outrage. “You fake! That’s the only thing you excel at. It’s disgusting, xQc, you’re a loser! You ‘re social anxiety-ridden!” Unsurprisingly, xQc didn’t take his criticism lying down, offering some sage advice to Tyler1: “We popped the off! We popped off! Tyler, if you hold onto grudges, and always seek revenge, you’ll never grow. You’ll never grow. Shut up! Manlet!” Unfortunately for Tyler1, it was another week of frustrations, as he and his partner Greekgox finished again without any victories, and while some may have been happy to see someone else pick up an unexpected victory, it’s clear that the LoL streamer would have been a lot happier had xQc and m0xy not won at all!

Tyler1 and Kai Cenat celebrate God of War Ragnarok with epic Kratos cosplays – Dexerto
Tyler1 and Kai Cenat celebrate God of War Ragnarok with epic Kratos cosplays SonyTwitch stars Tyler1 and Kai Cenat celebrated the launch of God of War Ragnarok by donning incredible Kratos cosplays, transforming themselves into the PlayStation protagonist. God of War Ragnarok is one of the biggest game releases of the year, and one of the most highly anticipated sequels in gaming history. The PlayStation-exclusive title from Santa Monica Studio has triggered a huge wave of cosplays not just from fans of the franchise but from streamers and content creators as well. Now, two of Twitch’s biggest stars have joined in on the fun and donned a Kratos outfit, fit with body paint and all. Kai Cenat and Tyler1 don Kratos cosplays Tyler1 premiered his Kratos cosplay on November 10 along with his playthrough of the game. Although his Kratos outfit was impressive – with a big fake beard, his entire face and head covered in white and red paint – he turned around to show that he had run out of body paint by the end and that his back has zero paint on it. Kai Cenat, the newest king of Twitch, donned a similar outfit, although he decided to ditch the white body paint that Tyler went for. He also wielded a shrunken butcher’s knife, which wasn’t exactly intimidating. One viewer commented that Kai looked like if “James Harden and Kratos had a kid.” Cenat ended up FaceTiming fellow streamer and friend Adin Ross and shouted, “I’m the God of black!” Although neither of the cosplays was perfectly accurate to Kratos and his iconic look, they certainly had fun getting dressed up in front of thousands of live viewers.

Tyler1 and Macaiyla announce they’re expecting their first child – Dexerto
Tyler1 and Macaiyla announce they’re expecting their first child Twitter: Tyler1Earlier in 2023, Tyler1 detailed a miscarriage that landed Macaiyla in the hospital and was nearly fatal. However, the couple has since announced that they’re expecting a healthy baby girl and are finally going to get the child they’ve both wanted for over a year. In July 2023, Tyler1 explained why he took a break from streaming the details behind an ectopic pregnancy that landed his partner, Macaiyla, in the hospital for weeks. An ectopic pregnancy is when an egg is fertilized and begins growing outside of the uterus, and, in Macaiyla’s case, that growth ruptured one of her fallopian tubes and caused massive internal bleeding. Tyler1 detailed this hospital visit and his frustration at the situation as well as the emotions that hit him when he realized they lost their child. However, neither of them were deterred by this experience and they were still committed to trying to have a kid together. And, half a year, later, both Macaiyla and Tyler have confirmed that a child is on the way with no complications and is due in early 2024. Macaiyla and Tyler1 overcome a horrifying miscarriage Macaiyla detailed her hospital visit back in June via a Twitter post, explaining how the aftermath of the ectopic pregnancy caused her massive internal bleeding. However, despite everything, she claimed her and Tyler were both still committed to trying for a child. And, after moving past that hardship, Macaiyla and Tyler have announced that they’re expecting. Macaiyla revealed that the baby is due in April 2024, around 4 months after they posted the announcement. This means that Macaiyla has been pregnant for a while, and that the couple has chosen to wait until now to tell everyone. The response from fans and fellow creators alike has been overwhelmingly positive as the couple is set to have the child they’ve wanted for a long time.

Tyler1 accidentally mocks World War 2 while streaming in Germany – Dexerto
Tyler1 accidentally mocks World War 2 while streaming in Germany Twitch: Tyler1Tyler1 has been streaming his climb through EU West League of Legends services from Berlin, Germany. However, when talking about trying to get food in the country, he accidentally mocked World War 2 by saying Germany operated like it was in “19 f***ing 40”. Getting used to living in a new country can be difficult. Every culture operates in different ways and by different standards, and it can be difficult to get your hands on things that are easily accessible at home. Tyler1’s been traveling around the world to stream League of Legends solo queue in other countries with the goal of hitting Challenger on servers outside of the US. He’s chosen Berlin, Germany, as his destination for grinding through EU West, and he just so happened to make a comment mocking World War 2 during an on-stream rant. Tyler1 mocks World World 2 on accident while streaming in Berlin Tyler1 is known primarily for two things as a streamer: He’s really good at League of Legends, and he’s got a big personality. He’s got a reputation for loud and hilarious on-stream moments and rants, and those are a big part of what’s made him a massive streamer that’s recognized outside of just the game he plays. That said, his loud personality doesn’t always do him well. He’s gotten in hot water in the past for things he’s said on stream and in-game but has since become a much more tame streamer. For the most part, anyways. However, recent comments while streaming from Berlin, Germany, certainly raised some eyebrows. Tyler1 was in the middle of a heated rant about how difficult it was for him to get the food he wanted in Germany via delivery apps. Seeing as he normally streams for several hours at once, it’s rare he gets a moment to step away and grab a bite to eat. “Dude, is this a third-world country? Or is NA just that optimized? Jesus, get with the times, man! It’s 2023, not 19 f***ing 40.” He didn’t realize his mistake until he read a message from one of his chatters on-stream. “‘Did he just compare 2023 Germany to 1940 Germany because he couldn’t remove syrup from his blueberry pancakes?’ Okay, I didn’t actually know what date and timeframe that all happened, so I apologize for that. Didn’t mean to bring that up; I’m sorry.” Tyler laughed at his own mistake and apologized to any chatters offended by his comment.

Tyler Oakley taking YouTube hiatus after 12 years of regular uploads – Dexerto
Tyler Oakley taking YouTube hiatus after 12 years of regular uploads YouTube: Tyler OakleyOG internet star Tyler Oakley is finally taking a break from YouTube after consistently uploading videos to the platform every Tuesday for the past 12 years. Creator burnout is a massive problem in the modern age. With the rise of full-time Twitch streamers, Instagram models, and YouTubers, it seems that everything in influencer lives must be turned into content, leading to a huge amount of stress and anxiety as their viewer counts rise and fall. Over the past decade, a number of high-profile creators have taken extended breaks from their work, including the likes of JackSepticEye, Pokimane, and even PewDiePie, all citing burnout and stress from social media as reasons for taking a step back. Now, it’s Tyler Oakley’s turn. Oakley, who has boasted a massive presence on YouTube since starting his channel in 2007, has uploaded a video every single Tuesday for the past 12 years, making his sudden break quite a big deal. View this post on Instagram Oakley announced his hiatus in a video on December 15, simply titled “See ya later,” where he cited frustrations with having to cancel projects amid the 2020 health crisis as a major player in his choice to step back. That’s not all, though; the influencer also stated that he is shifting his focus to some upcoming projects, which he is excited to share with his viewers when the time comes. “Now, I’m gonna be focusing on some other stuff, which I’m really excited about, and I’m really ready to develop out and make into some fun, new little things,” he explained. However, he made sure to tell fans that he is not leaving the platform for good, a la Jenna Marbles. Instead, he claimed he would be back “at some point,” although he made no mention of when this would be to avoid giving himself a hard deadline. “I am in no way closing the doors on YouTube,” he continued. “I have loved making stuff on this channel for years and years and years, and I intend to keep going as long as I still love it.” Thus far, fans are supporting Tyler in his unexpected hiatus from YouTube — a major break for the star after 12 years of constantly creating content.

Tyler1 abruptly ends stream after viewers claim he “owes” more time – Dexerto
Tyler1 abruptly ends stream after viewers claim he “owes” more time Twitch/Tyler1Twitch star Tyler1 hilariously ended his broadcast after a donation message said the streamer is “owned” by his fans and that Tyler owes them another hour of streaming. Tyler1 is one of the most prolific streamers not just for League of Legends streamers, but on all of Twitch. He often streams over 50 hours a week and attempts to hit 10 hours streamed every time he goes live. His contract with Twitch is so demanding he’s hinted it could end with early retirement. One viewer donated to Tyler’s stream with oddly specific demands, which led to an incredible moment. Tyler1 ends stream after viewer demands The 26-year-old streamer was live on January 28 when he read a donation message aloud. “Without us, you are nothing. We own you. Even if we gave you more, you would still live in that s***ty trailer home, without us you’d be eating Chips Ahoy from the gas station. You OWE us another hour, Big T.” Tyler was nearing his 10 hours streamed for the day, and clearly, one fan wanted more from him. He scoffed at the message, “Kids, we don’t understand who runs the f**kin’ show here, apparently. We don’t understand. Let me show you.” T1’s stream then went dark, as his broadcast ended. The streamer wasn’t offline for long, though, as he quickly restarted the stream just moments after ending it. Tyler is known to roast his viewers from time to time, but this interaction might be the most hilarious yet. His chat room is one of the rowdiest on all of Twitch, and Tyler has to humble them every now and then.

Tyler Oakley slams viral star Lohanthony for disturbing videos – Dexerto
Tyler Oakley slams viral star Lohanthony for disturbing videos YouTube: Tyler Oakley LohanthonyViral star Lohanthony was known for being open about his sexuality online in a time where it wasn’t so accepted. But in a disturbing turn of events, the star has returned to YouTube with a series of videos seemingly promoting conversion therapy, with Tyler Oakley making an entire video dedicated to the return. Anthony “Lohanthony” Quintal became known on the internet for his zany personality, going viral with a video of him twirling his leg saying “calling all the basic b*tches.” He gained a decent amount of traction on the video platform Vine as a younger teen. After a few years of relative silence, the now 21-year-old returned in late August, but not as the same Anthony people remembered him as. In his first video uploaded on August 18 entitled “why Christ? My testimony to Jesus,” he announced that he’d been “feeling a shift in his life for a while” and that “Jesus found him.” i was watching a lohanthony vine compilation and i just can’t believe he went from this to where he is now. pic.twitter.com/LrEykjz8YG — gage ! has moved to @antihopefui (@moonhazes) August 22, 2020 In a later video entitled “Jesus delivers: surviving sexuality,” Anthony goes into detail about his relationship with his sexuality now saying, “it’s no coincidence that through pursuing my same-sex attraction, I was also addicted to alcohol, I was also addicted to weed.” The 40-minute long video that has garnered over 130,000 views now has more dislikes than it has likes, and a video of him reading some scriptures a week later has an even worse like to dislike ratio, the comments now disabled. (Warning: video discusses sensitive topics) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RabRG9cYQ78 YouTuber and LGBTQ+ activist Tyler Oakley was compelled to make a whole video about the distressing subject matter on September 1, titled “Calling All the Anti-Gay B*tches” in reference to Anthony’s viral video. “I did not see Lohanthony denouncing being gay on my 2020 bingo card, but here we are,” he said. “Lohanthony was one of the early super-gay, unapologetically himself influencers.” Tyler described the situation as “complicated” and said that “to equate all of same-sex attraction to sin, or something that needs to be withheld or repressed, is playing into the exact approach of anti-gay people.” While he expressed that he would not usually give a situation like this air time, he explained that the existence of many US states which have yet to ban conversion therapy, and a vice-president who supports it means that it is “life or death” situation for LGBTQ+ kids across the country, and needs to be addressed. He does say that “his heart breaks” for the young star. Lohanthony has yet to respond to Tyler’s comments.

Two women accuse Andrew Tate of rape and “repeated” strangling – Dexerto
Two women accuse Andrew Tate of rape and “repeated” strangling Andrew Tate, TwitterFormer kickboxer turned controversial influencer Andrew Tate has been accused of rape and repeated strangling by two women. Tate was one of four people arrested in Romania following a police raid in December 2022, as part of an investigation into the abduction of two girls and alleged human trafficking. Prosecutors told Reuters the arrest was related to a “cam girl” business. Andrew’s brother, Tristan, was also detained. Since then, Tate’s Bugatti and other cars have reportedly been seized. In an exclusive Vice report on January 4, it states the 36-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of rape in 2015, with UK authorities declining to prosecute. The Vice story says: “Two women told VICE World News they were violently abused – one raped, the other repeatedly strangled – by Andrew Tate, and that UK police and the Crown Prosecution Service mishandled their case, leaving him free to rise to global fame on the back of his unchecked misogyny.” Tate denies rape and assault allegations, with his lawyer saying as much in a statement in Romania. One of the women in the Vice report said: “When I saw that he was arrested in Romania I was shocked and didn’t know how to react. I cried. Everything I read is what I told the police [at the time of the complaint]. If the CPS had just pulled their finger out, none of this would’ve happened.” The second said: “[I am] happy something has been done, but not completely hopeful, as he’s walked free from his sexual assaults before. “I have been very frustrated by the British police and court system for a long time, they could have stopped him from doing the exact same abuse to these women in Romania.” Update: January 5 Vice has posted a clip, lasting over six minutes, showing a snippet from their upcoming special report – featuring ‘Sally’ – one woman (real name withheld in order to protect her identity) accusing Tate of sexual and physical abuse. In the video, she is reduced to tears giving her account, saying: “The first night that I worked for him, Andrew bought me like five bottles of wine, so I got completely drunk because I’ve never done webcam work. I was very nervous. “Then, that night we were just sitting on the bed, and punched me on my arm… When I came out of the bathroom he was super, super nice. From what I remember, Andrew didn’t have any alcohol at all – it was literally just me. That night, we cuddled and ended up having sex. I was really, really drunk. That was my first night. Then it was like every single night I would work. As soon as he handed me my money, I forgot about him hitting me and everything else.” Sally says she was paid a flat fee of 15 pounds an hour and was eventually moved into a larger apartment, with other girls working for him. “I saw him smack girls with a belt,” she said. “He used to strangle us as well.” She goes on to say she watched him rape another woman, and threatened to beat her up. The Vice special report January 12, 11PM EST, on Vice TV. The investigation is yet to have reached a conclusion at the time of writing. Therefore, Andrew Tate has not responded to the Vice report or upcoming documentary publicly as he remains in police custody.

Tyler Brash: How I’m turning TikTok hate into an acting career – Dexerto
Tyler Brash: How I’m turning TikTok hate into an acting career TikTok: Tyler BrashTikTok’s most famous creators are canceled for new reasons every day, and often have to post apologies to keep their fans on their side. But Tyler Brash had hate from the very beginning for his “cringy” acting videos. Instead of begging people to like him, Tyler has used the attention to his advantage. The goal? To eventually win an Oscar. One hallmark of TikTok is the POV (point of view) trend. Several TikTokkers have made a name for themselves using this particular trend such as Sway House member Kio Cyr, and Issey Moloney. Instead of going for tongue-in-cheek “What my beauty blender sees when I’m in a hurry” or “On your 18th birthday you get a superpower,” Tyler has taken his videos more seriously, often putting together scenes from a relationship, or flirting with the viewer. More recently scenes have included “we’re rock climbing and something goes wrong” and “a shark nearly bites your arm.” Tyler became well known after other popular TikTokkers such as Max Dressler duetted his videos making fun of his “bad acting”, and YouTuber Cody Ko even featured Tyler in two videos talking about the POV trend, slamming him for being “cringy.” And yet the origin story is part of his success – who doesn’t love a bit of TikTok drama? Tyler told Dexerto: “I sucked at it, I really did. But I think that’s how I blew up,” he admitted. “But, I thought to myself, I don’t want to do anything else. “It used to be like ‘this kid is so cringy’. ‘This kid is never gonna get anywhere’. I still get those comments. But now more comments are like, ‘dude, it’s TikTok. Like, why are you going so hard on TikTok?’” What did Cody Ko say about Tyler? “He has to be f*****g with us. No one talks like that,” Cody Ko said in one video. “Whatever emotion he’s showing there’s just this veil of f***boy right in front of it.” In Cody Ko’s second video he finds almost a new-found respect for the TikTokker, and says “Tyler brash nails it because he looks right into the camera and he hits on you.” Tyler welcomed the attention, and even posted about how much he laughed. But, it was still hurtful. He said: “A lot of people thought I was joking, but I really wasn’t because the acting was so bad and I was super hurt.” To begin with, Tyler hit out at the haters, defending himself, and engaging the attention of other high-profile stars on the app including Bryce Hall, Spencer X, and Brittany Broski. “I blew my composure,” he said, “but I learned from it.” He made several videos in response, eventually apologizing to Max Dressler after feuding for weeks, saying “the meaning of my TikToks is more than just acting like a douche or a pretty boy… I’m sorry Max for threatening you.” A couple of months later Tyler even wrote a full diss-track about Max called “I Didn’t Ask” with lyrics such as “making fun of me is the reason that you pop.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVE34LU5ZSU So this thick-skinned creator has ignored the haters and instead begun using the attention to his own advantage. In recent months Tyler has hired a small team to dramatically increase the filmic quality of his short videos. Tyler and his team have been going to great lengths to ramp up the quality. In one of Tyler’s more recent videos, he appeared to get waterboarded, and yes, Tyler confirmed it was real, describing the experience as “gnarly,” but still one of his favorites to film because of the intensity. He and his team also spent money going out to Lake Tahoe, renting out a boat – purely for the TikTok – and catching a fish. In this particular video, Tyler thrashes around on a “lifeboat,” gets severely sunburnt, and literally bites a fish in half. In July, Tyler explained that the reason behind the high-quality videos was to win an Oscar. He said “I only need the right set of eyes to see one of my videos”, and TikTok is going to help him to get his name out there by being his “acting portfolio”, and get him auditions for films and TV shows. Tyler says “God has blessed me with the creative mindset.” What is Tyler up to now? One of his latest projects is collaborating with the app’s biggest stars after requests from his fans. So far Tyler has enlisted Sway House’s Griffin Johnson to play a mafia leader, and Kio Cyr to be kidnapped. Tyler’s efforts are even coming full-circle. He and Cody Ko have made up since the scathing YouTube takedowns, and they’re planning on making a video together in the near future, potentially with Cody Ko taking part in a POV – much like Kio and Griffin. Despite TikTok’s potential ban and a global crisis, Tyler has had a meeting with a film director and is in talks with a talent company. Whether he is able to win an Oscar or not, Tyler wants people to understand that “just because other people don’t like what you’re doing, it’s not right for you to quit. “Who cares what other people think? Sometimes I care about what people think, but I’m human. But the meaning of everything is to just keep going. Who cares what people think about what you’re doing?”

Two teachers at same school make OnlyFans accounts due to low salaries – Dexerto
Two teachers at same school make OnlyFans accounts due to low salaries Instagram/megan.gaither92/bricoppageA couple of teachers at the same high school were discovered to have made OnlyFans accounts and they’re making a lot more than they did in the education system. In October, 28-year-old Brianna Coppage quit her job as a teacher after students discovered her OnlyFans account, but it turns out she wasn’t the only one with a side hustle at St. Clair High School. Megan Gaither, who had been teaching for four years also actually had an OnlyFans account and made one after her own student loans began piling up, forcing her to turn to the platform to help compensate. Despite deleting her account when coworker Coppage was exposed, Gaither believes she was exposed when another woman posted a Halloween photo to social media and tagged her, resulting in students discovering her OF past. Teacher says students discovered her OnlyFans secret Gaither explained that she made an OnlyFans account originally because her salary as a teacher was just a mere $47,000 a year. Even though she wanted to be a teacher first and foremost, that photo being made public ended up haunting her in a big way and she couldn’t escape it. “As soon as that picture was posted, almost immediately, I started getting messages and letters from students tacked on my door saying that they know my secret and that I was caught,” she told KWCH. The teacher ended up being placed on leave as the school conducted an investigation, but she decided to create a new OnlyFans account in the meantime where she made $65,000 in just two weeks. “The school has no right to tell me what I can and cannot do once I come home at,” Gaither slammed, noting that she doesn’t think she’ll be able to teach again. Coppage, meanwhile, has made even more bank after being discovered, becoming a millionaire after students found out about her account. These are hardly the only teachers to lose their jobs over OnlyFans. Earlier this year, a Canadian teacher was sacked for refusing to delete her account and she’s since decided to sue the school board for “discrimination.” Elsewhere, a former science teacher was fired and banned from OnlyFans after she was caught filming content on students’ desks.

Two teens reportedly dead after hitting trucks in TikTok ‘Angel of Death’ challenge – Dexerto
Two teens reportedly dead after hitting trucks in TikTok ‘Angel of Death’ challenge Pixabay/TikTokA dangerous TikTok trend appropriately named the “Angel of Death” challenge has reportedly claimed the lives of two teens after they jumped in front of trucks. Wild TikTok trends aren’t anything new. Ever since the app’s release, creators have found crazy ways of making content, even if it means putting their lives at risk in the process. Now, a ridiculous new challenge out of Indonesia is making headlines for all the wrong reasons with teens reportedly jumping in front of moving trucks. The only way to successfully complete the challenge is if the truck comes to a stop or the driver manages to avoid the individual in front of it. Angel of Death TikTok challenge claims two lives According to a report by Insider, two teens have died trying the challenge. On Friday, June 3, a teen from Tangerang was run over by a truck while trying to film the challenge for content. One day before that, two teens in the city of Bandung attempted the Angel of Death challenge with a truck hitting a 14-year-old, shattering his teeth and fracturing his skull. The challenge even dates back to last July when a teenager died in Bekasi City, though it seems like the trend has made an unwanted comeback as of late. So far, it doesn’t seem like the challenge has spread outside of Indonesia yet, and hopefully, it ends up staying that way.

Two people die after trying TikTok fractal wood burning trend – Dexerto
Two people die after trying TikTok fractal wood burning trend TikTok: bruceburnswoodshop / sck_creationsTwo people have died in Wisconsin after attempting the fractal wood burning art technique that has gone viral on TikTok. Police say they believe their deaths to be as a result of electrocution. On April 21, the Marathon County Sheriff’s office released a statement regarding an investigation they did into a “structure fire and unexplained deaths” after an incident that occurred on April 6. The statement explained that they believe that the two victims, aged 44 and 52, were deceased prior to the house fire. “Foul play has been ruled out and the deaths were found to be accidental in nature and are believed to be caused by electrocution from fractal wood burning.” Fractal wood burning is an art technique in which you can create tree-like patterns into wood that has been soaked in a chemical solution, using high voltage electricity. Click here if TikTok doesn’t load The art technique has become hugely popular on platforms like TikTok, where videos demonstrating the technique have garnered millions of views and likes. Police explained that through their investigation they believe that the fractal wood-burning equipment caused the electrocutions, which subsequently caused the fire that started in the garage and then spread to the house. They also warned people against the possible dangers of attempting the viral art technique, saying in the statement: “The Marathon County Sherriff’s Office wishes to alert citizens of the dangers of fractal wood burning, an art form that has gained popularity on social media sites such as TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.” Click here if TikTok doesn’t load “The fractal burning process typically uses a high-voltage transformer, often repurposed from a microwave oven, to flow current across wood items that have been soaked with a chemical solution. This process is highly dangerous and should only be done by trained professionals,” they said. This isn’t the only dangerous trend to go viral on TikTok. Experts have warned against everything from the Sleepy Chicken trend to the fire mirror challenge, and it looks like there’s only set to be more in the future.

Two more streamers in Japan called out for disruptive behavior by frustrated viewers – Dexerto
Two more streamers in Japan called out for disruptive behavior by frustrated viewers Twitch: waterlynn, narzakeEven more live streamers are being called out for disruptive behavior in Japan after two separate incidents were captured and subsequently called out by viewers. Lately, a slew of broadcasters have been called out for their disruptive behavior during their visits to Japan. The country is known for its politeness and rigid social rules — a mere few of which include being quiet on public transportation, not eating while walking, taking off your shoes inside someone’s home, avoiding blowing your nose in public… the list goes on. It’s generally accepted that ‘when in Rome, do as the Romans do,’ and the same applies to Japan. Many foreign visitors are usually aware of the country’s etiquette and culture, at least to some extent… but some live streamers are breaking Japan’s rules to a jaw-dropping degree. We’ve covered the drama surrounding controversial Kick streamer ‘Johnny Somali,’ who was arrested twice and officially charged after months of shouting offensive statements and harassing locals in Japan. Another creator by the name of ‘Fidias’ was also called out for his behavior during a YouTube challenge he filmed, wherein he fled from police and hopped on public transport without paying. Now, two other streamers are facing backlash for their behavior while staying in Japan. Two more streamers under fire for disruptive behavior in Japan In early November, two clips surfaced from two separate broadcasts showing foreign streamers breaking Japanese social conventions. One clip, taken from Twitch streamer ‘Waterlynn’s’ broadcast with fellow streamer ‘JakeNBake,’ shows a foreign streamer walking across a street at a red light at night while filming and speaking loudly. Other pedestrians remained waiting at the curb until the light changed, as jaywalking is both illegal and heavily frowned upon in Japan. “He’s a French guy making a TikTok about, ‘Look at the Japanese people waiting at this little crosswalk, and watch me pass it, haha,’” JakeNBake claimed. Both Waterlynn and JakeNBake were not impressed by the guy’s actions — but another creator also came under fire for breaking convention in a separate stream around the same time. Twitch streamer Narzake was live streaming in a restaurant at night when he was shushed by the woman dining with him. When he didn’t pipe down, a worker at the restaurant approached him and signaled for him to lower his speaking volume. Commenters weren’t happy with Narzake’s loudness, with quite a few saying he’d be speaking too loudly even in Western countries like America. These are just the latest incidents in a string of issues caused by foreign streamers in Japan — issues that have even been called out by Japan’s Cabinet Secretary Matsuno, who said they were “invading privacy and causing a public nuisance” in a public statement just last month.

Two more Twitch streamers banned after Hasan over “cracker” slur controversy – Dexerto
Two more Twitch streamers banned after Hasan over “cracker” slur controversy TwitchMore Twitch streamers are facing suspensions from the platform, after breaching Twitch’s community guidelines regarding hateful slurs, after Hasan was banned for using the term ‘cracker’. Debate around the term was sparked after two of Hasan Piker’s Twitch mods were suspended for using the word – suspensions which Hasan then argued against. On December 13, Hasan himself was banned from Twitch, his third in total, for an as-yet-undisclosed length of time. The word has now become part of a wider discussion on Twitch, and it appears that as a result, two more broadcasters have been hit with suspensions, one of them indefinite. More streamers banned On December 14, streamers VaushVidya and Fawn, with 82k and 32k followers respectively, were banned from Twitch. Vaush said that the ban was “indefinite, no less. Proud of Twitch for finally taking a stand against anti-white racism.” Indefinite, no less. Proud of Twitch for finally taking a stand against anti-white racism — Vaush 🇵🇸 (@VaushV) December 14, 2021 Fawn did not confirm the exact reason for the ban, but said she believes it is “for the same thing.” Twitch’s community guidelines regarding slurs state that the following is prohibited: “Using hateful slurs, either untargeted or directed towards another individual. We allow certain words or terms, which might otherwise violate our policy, to be used in an empowering way or as terms of endearment when such intent is clear.” Examples given include “entering a chat and spamming a slur”, “targeting an individual with a slur based on a protected characteristic” and “calling another player a slur in anger while streaming.” In 2020, in response to a request for more clarity from streamers, Twitch said “regardless of spelling or pronunciation, slurs used for the purpose of hate or harassment are not allowed.” Hasan’s assertion that there is “no way” the term is a slur sparked a wider debate among the Twitch community. Dexerto has reached out to Twitch regarding the specific policies about the word.

Two Holostars EN talents graduate from Hololive after unexplained suspension – Dexerto
Two Holostars EN talents graduate from Hololive after unexplained suspension Hololive ProductionHololive Production has announced the graduation of two Holostars VTubers, Magni Dezmond and Noir Vesper. This decision follows a prolonged hiatus that saw both talents sidelined for over a month. On July 10, both Magni Dezmond and Noir Vesper were mysteriously suspended with Hololive never providing an official explanation as to why. Since then, neither of the HoloTempus members has streamed, produced content, or posted on their social media. Many fans had assumed there were internal issues but that these would eventually be solved. However, that does not look to be the case, as both involved Vtubers are set to exit Hololive Production and Holostars EN. Magni Dezmond and Noir Vesper to graduate from Holostars English Magni Dezmond and Noir Vesper are graduating from Holostars English as confirmed by Hololive Production in an announcement posted on August 24. The announcement opens: “We regret to announce that two members of the VTuber group HOLOSTARS English, Magni Dezmond and Noir Vesper, will be graduating on Thursday, August 31, 2023. Please understand that the members will not be performing any further activities such as graduation streams.” The post confirmed that this was not Hololive’s decision: “However, In accordance with their wishes, we have accepted their decision to graduate. We deeply appreciate their contributions and wish them the best in their future endeavor.” “To our fans and all those involved, we understand that this sudden graduation announcement following a prolonged hiatus might be quite unexpected and distressing,” Hololive noted before thanking fans for their “warm support.” Neither Magni Dezmond nor Noir Vesper have commented on the graduation. Given that neither will be hosting graduation streams and situations like this are normally NDA protected, it is unlikely specific information regarding the graduations will be disclosed.

Two IRL streamers have bizarre random meeting in Japan – Dexerto
Two IRL streamers have bizarre random meeting in Japan Hitch / TwitchTwitch streamer Hitch, best known for hitchhiking around the world while livestreaming, had a random, rather bizarre, encounter with a fellow IRL streamer who happened to be doing the exact same thing. Hitch’s latest travels have taken him to Japan, where he has decided to hitchhike from the Southern city of Nagasaki in attempt to go as far North across the country as possible. Having made it to the most Northern city, Wakkanai, on June 6, he decided to continue on with his journey around Japan, where he happened to bump into another livestreamer, who was also hitchhiking. It seems to have been by pure chance that the pair crossed paths, as the Japanese streamer was just being dropped off at the town Hitch was entering. The Japanese streamer instantly approached him after realizing he was a fellow streamer, introducing himself and telling him he was live on the mobile app “Twitcasting.” Much to his surprise, Hitch then discovered that the streamer was also hitchhiking, after he showed him his sign and gestured towards the people who dropped him off. “What? we’re doing the exact same thing, I’m hitchhiking.” Hitch said, before telling him how far his journey was, “From Nagasaki to Wakkanai.” The Japanese streamer was shocked to hear that Hitch had traveled over 1000 miles from the South of Japan, exclaiming, “Nagasaki!” even telling the people who gave him the lift just how far he had came. After the pair had gone their separate ways, Hitch then found the Japanese streamers channel on TwitCasting with the help of his viewers, listening in on what the streamer had to say about their chance meeting. He was pleased to see the streamer had nothing but compliments for him after they met, even saying that he had a “fantastic face.” This was not the first bizarre incident that has occurred during an IRL Twitch stream, with the unpredictability often resulting in strange moments, such as one particularly odd incident where a ‘stream sniper’ sniffed a streamers chair. It appears as if IRL streaming is becoming even more popular now, but the odds of these two IRL hitchhikers finding each other in a random Japanese town was still extremely slim.

Twitter’s new X sign is blinding people in nearby apartments – Dexerto
Twitter’s new X sign is blinding people in nearby apartments Twitter: @realchrisjbealeTwitter’s new X sign has been criticised by people living nearby, after the sign was revealed to be extremely bright and to have a “strobe” effect. Say what you like about Elon Musk, you can’t deny that he’s committing to the bit on this X rebranding. After taking down the iconic Twitter bird images, he put a huge light-up X on the top of the building. Now, videos are emerging from residents of apartment blocks across the road from the building, who are saying that the light is taking a little getting used to. Twitter user reacts to new X sign being too bright When the sign was first unveiled, a lot of people wondered what it would be like to live in the apartments that were level with the sign across the road. One Twitter user called Christopher Beale chimed in with his view of the X from one of these apartments, showing that the X was so bright that his camera struggled to focus on it when it lit up. Another user said: “I would be f*cking livid. Imagine this f*cking X sign right across from your bedroom. Potentially even more concerning was the X sign’s strobe effect, which makes the sign flash on and off repeatedly. Several commenters were concerned that the sign would be a hazard for people with epilepsy. We’ll have to wait and see if the X is a permanent feature at Twitter HQ, but for now, let’s hope they at least turn the brightness down. For a complete rundown on Twitter rebranding to X and everything that means for the site, check out our explainer here.

Two guys looking for friends go viral on TikTok after some people mock them – Dexerto
Two guys looking for friends go viral on TikTok after some people mock them @brentlyg/TikTokA pair of friends’ open invitation to hang out has gone viral on TikTok and Twitter. Even though they’ve been mocked a bit, plenty more people seem willing to take them up on their offer. TikTok user Brently probably wasn’t expecting the amount of attention a clip he posted with his friend Jeff, but their simple request to hang ended up going viral and got plenty of attention– both good and bad. The clip itself is pretty straightforward, with Brently introducing himself and Jeff, explaining their interests, grabbing snacks, and hanging out taking in a movie. Being on the internet though, plenty of people took the opportunity to try and bring Brently and Jeff down a peg, with one calling the TikTok “the most depressing s**t I’ve ever seen.” Despite the haters, or perhaps thanks to them, the two “pretty cool guys” open invitation for more friends to join their group went viral, with plenty of people taking them up on their offer. The original TikTok got millions of views since being posted, and once the video made it’s way to Twitter, it quickly racked up close to 2 million views and counting. Friendship offers came in from all over, including YouTuber DonutOperator, and one person even called the pair the “Jay and Silent Bob” of TikTok, as Brently seems to do all the talking, while Jeff is more of the strong, silent type — just like the characters from the Clerks movies. Fuck you, these guys are awesome https://t.co/Ze0ahBRtMr — Donut Operator 🍩 (@DonutOperator) June 18, 2021 This brings us to another important question, does Jeff ever speak, or like his counterpart Silent Jay, does he prefer to remain quiet the whole time? As luck would have it, Brently has posted more TikToks since, and in a few you can see Jeff talking briefly, and even cracking a joke or two. So what’s next for this unexpected, dynamic duo taking over social media? It seems like more movies, snacks, and park hangout sessions are in the cards, which definitely sounds like a good time to us.

Twitter working on “paid DMs” as Elon Musk’s pursuit for revenue continues – Dexerto
Twitter working on “paid DMs” as Elon Musk’s pursuit for revenue continues Twitter/WikiMedia CommonsTwitter is now reportedly working on “paid DMs” as new boss Elon Musk continues to look for fresh revenue streams. When Elon Musk announced his intention to purchase Twitter back in April, many users assumed it was a pie-in-the-sky idea. A deal seemed to be dead when the Tesla boss pulled out of his proposed $44 billion purchase over bot accounts on the platforms. Though, the South African business magnate resurrected the deal in October, and completed it a few weeks later. Since taking over Twitter, he’s set about making some pretty big changes as well. Musk sparked backlash when he revealed plans to further expand on Twitter’s premium subscription program and also remove verification from users. Though, they can keep that blue tick for a price. Twitter will soon have “paid DMs” The SpaceX boss has reiterated a few times that the social media platform can not solely rely on advertisers for its revenue, and as such, is looking at different ways to make cash. According to Jane Wong, who has a reliable track record of reporting on upcoming changes to Twitter, Facebook, and beyond, Musk’s team are apparently working on “paid DMs” for users. Wong doesn’t offer any further information beyond the “paid DMs” tweet, leaving it up to interpretation. Though, Twitter does sort of offer something similar already. Twitter Blue subscribers have the ability to pin select DM conversations, allowing them to quickly sort through their inboxes. Some users have already expressed their support for the rumored change, noting that it’ll make Twitter’s messaging system safer. Though, not everyone is so sure. “This is great, because people will stop DMing each other on a completely exposed messaging platform with no encryption,” said one. “Hurray, digital stamps! I do not know what problem that solves for tweets. But I would love that for email,” added another. “Let me guess: trolls can pay to harass me. Cool, cool,” commented another. It remains to be seen as to what exactly Twitter has planned for the change, but given Musk’s fondness for regular tweeting, it probably won’t be long before he says something.

Twitter users start #blockelon tag after Musk increases visibility on his tweets – Dexerto
Twitter users start #blockelon tag after Musk increases visibility on his tweets YouTube: World Government SummitTwitter users are blocking Elon Musk in droves after the tech billionaire made big changes to the platform by increasing visibility of his own posts. Elon Musk’s Twitter acquisition has been met with a wide variety of different reactions from netizens even before the purchase was completed in October 2022. Since then, he’s made a slew of big changes to the popular social media platform, including a major overhaul of its verification system, which users can now purchase via a subscription through Twitter Blue. However, the latest change enacted by Musk is sparking dissent from users all across the app — and has even sparked a hashtag that’s going viral. According to a report from Platform, Musk tagged Twitter’s entire engineering force on Slack to address an “urgent” issue at 2:36 Monday morning. Twitter users urge others to block Elon Musk after new visibility changes The following day, Twitter users were bombarded with a slew of Musk’s posts on their timelines. As told by Platform, Musk has reportedly implemented a system to increase the visibility of his own posts on the site… and users aren’t happy about it. As of Wednesday, February 15, a swath of Twitter users have coined the #blockelon hashtag in protest of this latest update. Although the tag boasts an abundance of users who are genuinely upset by the change in visibility of his posts, others are speaking out in support of the Twitter owner. When Musk gathered Twitter engineers together to resolve the issue, he was reportedly told that visibility on his tweets might be dwindling due to being possibly blocked or muted by many users. It’s also speculated that the reason why Musk enacted the change was due to a wide disparity in engagement between his Super Bowl post and that of President Joe Biden, who received 29 million impressions as opposed to Musk’s 9.1 million (before he deleted it). This is just the latest incident to spark conversation on the site after Musk privated his account as a “test” despite having over 127 million followers earlier this month.

Twitter testing TikTok-style video reply feature ‘Tweet Take’ – Dexerto
Twitter testing TikTok-style video reply feature ‘Tweet Take’ Twitter: samhavesTwitter is testing a new TikTok-style feature, ‘Tweet Take,’ which will give users the option to Quote Tweet with a video response. As one of the most popular social media apps right now, TikTok is proving to have a huge influence on other platforms, with some of its most notable features such as its vertical-scrolling video feed being adapted by apps like Instagram. A popular feature used by many creators is the video reply function, which allows users to respond to a comment underneath one of their videos with a whole new video, using the comment as a sticker to help viewers understand the context. On January 6, Twitter announced their own ‘Tweet Take’ which appears to resemble TikTok’s popular feature. Tweet reaction videos can now start on Twitter! Testing on iOS: when you tap the Retweet icon, choose “Quote Tweet with reaction” to create and customize your very own Tweet Take –– a reaction video (or photo) with the Tweet embedded. pic.twitter.com/1E30F8rKYh — Support (@Support) January 6, 2022 To use the feature, they explained: “When you tap the Retweet icon, choose “Quote Tweet with reaction” to create and customize your very own Tweet Take –– a reaction video (or photo) with the Tweet embedded.” Although they are testing on iOS devices, it’s currently not clear how many people have access to Tweet Takes, or how long it will take to roll out on a wider scale if the test period proves successful. We want to give you more creative ways to join the conversation and express yourself on Twitter. Starting today, we’re rolling out a test on iOS that gives you the option to Quote Tweet with a reaction video (or photo) with your very own Tweet Take. Here’s my take👇🏻📸 https://t.co/RLolp062GA pic.twitter.com/21qlYk2hh5 — Sam Haveson (@samhaves) January 6, 2022 Reactions to the feature have so far been mixed, with some looking forward to trying out the function that became so successful on TikTok, and others concerned that it could be misused. This is the latest in a line of experimental features from Twitter, with their disappearing tweet function ‘Fleets’ being shut down in July just eight months after launch due to low usage. With Tweet Takes only just having launched, users will have to wait a little while to determine what sort of impact it could have on the platform — and whether it is as successful as TikTok’s own video reply feature remains to be seen.

Twitter users roast Elon Musk after he modifies company HQ sign – Dexerto
Twitter users roast Elon Musk after he modifies company HQ sign Wikimedia Commons/Twitter: Elon MuskElon Musk recently changed the sign outside of Twitter’s headquarters to display the word “Titter,” and the platform’s users are roasting the decision. Ever since Elon Musk acquired Twitter back in October 2022, a wide variety of changes have been put into place by the entrepreneur. He quickly reworked the verification process, and most recently changed the website’s icon to display the infamous DOGE Coin mascot. On April 9, Elon shared that they had modified the Twitter sign outside of their San Francisco headquarters to spell out the word “Titter,” and users were quick to roast Musk’s decision. Twitter users roast Elon Musk after sign change In the tweet, Elon said “Our landlord at SF HQ says we’re legally required to keep the sign as Twitter and cannot remove “w,” so we pained it the background color. Problem solved!” The post has since received over 14,000 replies and 39 million views in the 13 hours after it was posted. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, “titter” means to laugh in a nervous, affected, or partly suppressed manner. Since then, users of the platform have taken to their profiles to roast the Twitter CEO for his sign change. “You sure know how to make Ws disappear huh,” one user replied. Another Twitter user commented: “Great—now your company sign looks like it was vandalized by a fifth grader with a third grader’s sense of humor. How utterly demoralizing for anyone who still works in that building.” “Hard to believe this guy has adult responsibilities in the real world,” a third said. However, others thought the change was quite hilarious. “OMFG LMFAO,” another user replied. For more entertainment news and other viral stories, head over to our hub.

Twitter users shocked as full Super Mario Bros Movie remains on site – Dexerto
Twitter users shocked as full Super Mario Bros Movie remains on site NintendoTwitter users are stunned as the full version of the new Super Mario Bros movie was uploaded and still remains on the site. Since Elon Musk’s $44 billion dollar acquisition of Twitter last year, the social media platform has undergone many changes under its new leadership. The changes are in hopes of turning around Twitter’s financial situation — with the aim of making the platform profitable again for the first time since 2019. Among the changes include the widespread introduction of Twitter Blue — which comes with a ton of perks, including the ability to upload longer, high-quality videos to the platform. However, the feature has been used in some bizarre ways, with users even posting full-length movies. On April 28, user ‘OMGitssAshley’ took the opportunity to upload the full version of the new Super Mario Bros movie. While typically the video would be quickly taken down, many are baffled as the movie still remains available almost two days later. In a tweet on April 30, user ‘steinkobbe’ noted how the full Super Mario Bros movie is still available to watch over 40 hours later. “The entire Super Mario movie was posted to twitter over 40 hours ago and is still up,” they wrote. “You can tell Twitter just isn’t equipped to handle this anymore because they did delete other full movies posted by that same account while leaving this one up,” one user replied. “Maybe it wasn’t a great idea after all to fire the whole moderation team,” said another. So far, Elon Musk has described his experience of running Twitter as “quite painful,” and a “stressful situation.”

Twitter users rejoice as Elon announces purge of inactive accounts – Dexerto
Twitter users rejoice as Elon announces purge of inactive accounts Joshue Hoehne via UnsplashTwitter users are thrilled following Elon Musk’s announcement that inactive accounts will be removed from the platform. Since Jack Dorsey sent the first-ever tweet in 2006, hundreds of millions of users have signed up to use Twitter over the past couple of decades. However, with each and every user having their own unique handle, original usernames are hard to come by in 2023 — leaving many needing to settle for some unusual names. Although, thankfully, users may soon be able to snatch the username they truly want, as Elon plans to remove inactive accounts. Elon Musk plans to remove inactive Twitter accounts In a tweet on April 8, the platform’s owner and CEO Elon Musk warned Twitter users that they may see a decline in followers, announcing the removal of inactive accounts. “We’re purging accounts that have had no activity at all for several years, so you will probably see follower count drop,” Musk revealed. It’s fair to say some were delighted with the announcement, with many hoping it’ll give them the opportunity to grab the handle they want. “Any chance user names are going to be available for new accounts?” one user asked. On the other hand, however, some pointed out the implications of “purging” inactive accounts — such as removing deceased users. Among those included controversial internet star Andrew Tate, who pleaded for Musk to keep his passed father’s account on the platform. “Very good idea. But my father died and I still read his account daily. Please keep him active,” he wrote. Following Elon Musk’s $44 billion dollar acquisition of Twitter last year, the platform has undergone many changes, for better or worse, under its new leadership. While some have been fairly criticized by the majority of users, many seem to be pleased with this one.

Twitter users revolt as another beloved feature removed after Musk buyout – Dexerto
Twitter users revolt as another beloved feature removed after Musk buyout TwitterTwitter users are dissatisfied after another useful feature, Moments, were removed from the platform. It’s yet another change following Elon Musk’s buyout that has left users scratching their heads, with many using Moments to organize and feature their work. Twitter Moments might not have been the most popular feature, but they were certainly useful for some users on the platform. Intended to highlight specific events, Moments were popular for news organizations and content creators to have all their work on a specific topic in one place. Individual events could be threaded into a singular Moment, updated and reorganized for a clearer timeline. However the feature is on the chopping block, with Twitter removing Moments functionality on December 7. “Not all moments last,” the platform tweeted. “As of today we’re removing the option to create Moments for most users as we focus on improving other experiences. Don’t worry, you can still see past Moments and follow Live events on Twitter.” The move enraged dedicated users, with more than 16,000 quote tweets at the time of publishing criticizing the decision. This is compared with just 3,000 likes on the base tweet itself. “This is a terrible mistake, lots of creators big and small use moments to organize their work,” artist ‘Dreamy’ said. “They’re extremely useful and one of the best features of twitter. Getting rid of them makes no sense and will not improve the user experience in any way.” Others asked for Twitter to bring it back with new and improved functionality: “Can you improve moments instead? Like, they’re so useful. Y’all implemented some funny little hexagon icons for tech bros who are addicted to losing money, maybe do something for creatives on the website,” artist ‘Sgathan’ added. It’s yet another major platform change that has been criticized since Elon Musk’s $44 billion buyout of the social media giant. Twitter Blue’s revamp to include verification ended in disaster, while departing top engineers and staffers sounded alarms about the platform’s stability, leading to uncertainty. While numerous rivals to Twitter, such as Mastodon and Hive, have tried to get a foothold in the space since, none have made serious inroads into challenging the giant, which Musk says has reached historic traffic numbers since his takeover.

Twitter users confused as Verified Check merges Legacy and Twitter Blue descriptions – Dexerto
Twitter users confused as Verified Check merges Legacy and Twitter Blue descriptions The day after Twitter was meant to remove all Verified Checks, users began reporting their check was still intact, but the description was merged with the Twitter Blue subscriber text. On March 23, Twitter announced that it would remove legacy verified checkmarks and end its legacy verified program. For users who wanted to keep their checkmark, Twitter advised they subscribe to Twitter Blue. The change was supposed to take effect on April 1, but as the clock rolled over to April 2, Legacy Verified users noticed they still had their checkmarks. However, it was later discovered that Twitter had changed the description for when you click on a Legacy Check. Instead of “This is a legacy verified account. It may or may not be notable.” the check now lumps Legacy accounts in with Twitter Blue subscribers. Are you Twitter Blue or Legacy Verified? When you click on a Blue Checkmark, the new description reads, “This account is verified because it’s subscribed to Twitter Blue or is a legacy verified account.” This makes it impossible to tell the difference between people who were verified before the legacy program was implemented and those who “pay for Twitter.” This has left Twitter users feeling a mix of emotions. Some are confused as they expected their checkmark to be removed, while others are frustrated by the ambiguity of the new descriptions. YouTuber Eddy Buback fell into the later category, writing, “Oh god, this is way worse than taking the checkmark. I did not pay Elon. I would rather die.” He also pointed out that the new description could make it easier for Twitter Blue subscribers to impersonate celebrities, influencers, and more. While the wording by itself makes Blue subs and legacy accounts indistinguishable, actual Legacy Verified accounts will be followed by the Twitter Verified account.

Twitter users rejoice after devs finally remove auto-crop feature – Dexerto
Twitter users rejoice after devs finally remove auto-crop feature TwitterTwitter’s auto-cropping feature has been the bane of practically everyone’s existence for years. The developers have finally removed cropping on the platform as of May 5 though, and users are rejoicing. Let’s be real: If you’ve been on Twitter even just once, you’ve probably been baited by the cropping feature. People have managed to figure out the algorithm to bait people into seeing something… unsavory once they tap into the full-screen image. It’s also been a plague for artists. Sometimes the crop focuses on small subtext or irrelevant parts of the image, meaning those who might be interested in the full image keep scrolling on by. Finally, after years of petitioning, users will finally get what they want — no more cropping; the feature has been removed on iOS and Android as of May 5. https://twitter.com/Twitter/status/1390026628957417473 “No bird too tall, no crop too short. Introducing bigger and better images…now available to everyone,” the company wrote. Of course, everyone has reacted in a “Is this on?” kind of way. Twitter user shredded for not knowing how cheese works – Dexerto
Twitter user shredded for not knowing how cheese works Freepik / PixabayA Twitter user was brutally roasted by the internet when she found out the process behind making cheese wasn’t what she thought it was. Twitter enables anyone from around the world to post their thoughts and opinions in 140 characters or less, giving millions of people a platform to express themselves and communicate with a large audience. However, one user’s shock discovery of how cheese works had the whole platform brutally roasting her for going so long without knowing what the dairy product is actually made of. How is cheese made? Twitter member ‘Only1Carrington’ was curious how about blue cheese is made and decided to Google the process, only to be taken aback by her findings. “Y’ALL ARE EATING MOLD OMG! BLUE CHEESE IS FUCKING MOLD” she said in disgust after learning how the popular food is created. YALL ARE EATING MOLD OMGGGG:nauseated_face::nauseated_face::nauseated_face::nauseated_face::nauseated_face::nauseated_face::nauseated_face: BLUE CHEESE IS FUCKING MOLD pic.twitter.com/4vHbsi3KwB — EYNAIA:cherry_blossom: (@Only1Carrington) September 25, 2019 Shortly after the Twitter user shared her enlightened discovery, the social media platform erupted with people mocking her and taking her to task for only now learning what the dairy product actually is. “So you were today years old when you found out what cheese is. It’s really fascinating!” one person replied, kicking off a discussion. “Shhh… don’t tell her that mushrooms are made of fungus!” another person teased. The conversation turned away from food as people began to talk about how the mold that is used to create blue cheese is also responsible for the antibiotic Penicillin which has saved millions of lives. “She’s gonna be in for a real shocker when she realizes what penicillin are made of!” one user mocked. When someone else asked what as they didn’t know themselves, another person replied “Pencils!”, sending the comments section into hysterics. The internet truly gives us the tools to learn anything that we want, but broadcasting our discoveries online might sometimes come with “grating” results.

Twitter user accidentally goes viral for showering 37 times in a year – Dexerto
Twitter user accidentally goes viral for showering 37 times in a year AellaA Twitter user decided it’d be a fun idea to track everything she did in 2022 by logging some of her ventures. However, when she shared the results of her log, Twitter users were mortified to discover she only showered 37 times in an entire year. 2022 was a break from the monotony for many. Years of being stuck indoors for people around the world made 2022 a year where many got out and got adventurous, trying new things and enjoying life any way they could. As such, some people took up new hobbies. One Twitter user decided to log everything she did for the year so she could look back on it at the year’s end. After posting her results to Twitter, users looked through her stats and were shocked by a few of them. But the main one that stands out is that she only showered 37 times for an entire year. Twitter user defends showering 37 times in a year The stats Twitter user Aella_Girl posted started off pretty normal if maybe giving people a little too much information. These stats were listed in order of which activities she did most. She danced, wrote, drank, worked, cried, and even gamed a bit through the year, making this a pretty normal up-and-down year that most can relate to at first glance. A fun little recap and a cool experiment. But then people noticed her count of how many times she showered for the year at the bottom of the list: 37. People in the replies tried to give her an out here. Maybe she forgot to record some of her showers, or perhaps, because of how she recorded this list, she showered more than once in any of those 37 days. But Aella defended her lifestyle in the replies and was well aware of what she was doing through the year. She claimed her goal is to “try not to disturb my natural skin microbiome too much. if I shower too often I seem to stink more!” With replies and Quote Retweets that heavily ratio her original tweet (which is sitting at over 3 million views at the time of writing), it’s clear that the internet at large doesn’t agree with her. To defend herself further, Aella linked an article about what happened when someone stopped showering entirely. She also started a poll where other users could vote on how often they showered. While most people voted either “Once a day or more” or “once every 2-3 days”, the vote for “once every 7+ days” was sitting at just over 11% at the time of writing. This isn’t the first time Aella has had this conversation, either. You can find her full argument in her Twitter thread on the topic from November 2022.

Twitter user discovers Pokimane & Ludwig lookalikes in Johnny Depp & Amber Heard trial – Dexerto
Twitter user discovers Pokimane & Ludwig lookalikes in Johnny Depp & Amber Heard trial Twitter: theyungjeffA clever Twitter user has pointed out two uncanny lookalikes for top streaming stars Pokimane and Ludwig at the Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard defamation hearing. The entire internet is paying close attention to the ongoing defamation hearing between ex spouses and A-List actors Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Depp is suing Heard for a whopping $50 million for defamation over an op-ed Heard penned for the Washington Post in 2018 regarding alleged abuse she’d purportedly suffered from Depp. The situation has caused quite a stir online (even seeing a Starbucks go viral on TikTok for using tip jars as a way for customers to vote for Depp or Heard), with influencers and fellow celebs giving their takes on the situation. However, one of the most unexpected posts to come out of the hearing happened after one Twitter user made a connection between some personnel at the trial and an older meme. Last year, popular streamers Ludwig Ahgren and Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys made an appearance together in a sketch video for Offline TV, wearing some snazzy professional clothing in a courtroom setting. A photo of the two stars went viral on Twitter, garnering over 124 thousand likes with the caption: “These are my lawyers dawg… Nahh I’m going to jail.” look at my lawyers dawg… nahh im going to jail 😭 pic.twitter.com/1uyWzgTQRE — YUNG JEFF (@YUNGJEFF) April 27, 2021 One Twitter user connected the hilarious pic with two professionals at the Depp vs Heard hearing, noticing that they looked a little too similar to Pokimane and Ludwig. Ludwig took notice of the humorous comparison and replied, writing, “We’re doing our best.” The tweet has racked up over 17k likes at the time of writing and has spawned a few hilarious memes, in the process, with some netizens imagining how an actual court case with Lud and Poki as lawyers would play out. “Gonna keep it a Stack with you, your honor, the Plan is simple.” — Sheriff (@itsdrsheriff) April 27, 2022 Luckily, it doesn’t look like these two streamers will be making a court appearance anytime soon — but Ludwig did share his take on the situation between Depp and Heard in a recent broadcast.

Twitter trolls Facebook over name change to Meta – Dexerto
Twitter trolls Facebook over name change to Meta Twitter/Mark ZuckerbergTwitter joined in on the fun of roasting of Mark Zuckerberg’s announcement that Facebook would be renamed to ‘Meta’, a change that sparked plenyt of memes. On October 28, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg announced the company would be changing its name to Meta. The change caused a whirlwind of memes and posts all over the internet, on not just the company changing its name but to the fact that ‘Meta’ is an obvious gaming reference. Rival social media platform Twitter decided to join in on the fun, teasing a potential rebrand of their own. Twitter’s own account, simply @Twitter, made fun of Facebook by tweeting a joke about Facebook’s name change. The company tweeted, “BIG NEWS lol jk still Twitter” just after Facebook announced their big branding change. Twitter ragging on Facebook’s name change is suiting given the two companies have been the biggest social media platforms, and competitors, since each came to be in the mid-2000s. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey also weighed in on his personal account, pointing out the literal definition of the word ‘meta’. meta: referring to itself or to the conventions of its genre; self-referential. — jack (@jack) October 28, 2021 Twitter wasn’t the only company to rag on Facebook after the announcement. A few other big companies joined in on the “Meta” memes, like the fast-food chain Wendy’s, who fake rebranded their company name to simply “Meat.” Wendy’s took the joke even further and actually changed their display name on Twitter to Meat. Along with the name change, people also had some fun photoshopping Zuckerberg’s presentation, replacing the new logo for Meta with fictional villainous companies, like Umbrella Corporation from Resident Evil.

Twitter upset over Logan Paul ruining Game Boy Colors – Dexerto
Twitter upset over Logan Paul ruining Game Boy Colors The internet is once again upset with Logan Paul, and this time it’s because of a DIY project involving several Game Boy Colors. The older Paul brother is facing severe backlash on Twitter after “ruining” 15 Game Boys. Logan Paul and Nintendo fans haven’t always seen eye to eye, and it’s mainly due to his extravagant purchases of vintage collector’s items. More specifically, Logan has received negative attention from Pokemon card collectors. Earlier this year, the Pokemon trading card community slammed Paul for wearing an incredibly rare card as a necklace to his fight against Mayweather. The trading card community also blames Paul for impacting sale prices on vintage cards. Even when he chooses to spend $3.5 million on cards, the internet has a negative response. Now, Logan Paul has chosen to upset another community of vintage collectors by ruining 15 Game Boy Colors. Retro gaming enthusiasts have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment in Paul’s latest art project. Logan Paul ruins 15 Game Boys with resin Today the world lost 15 beautiful Game Boy Colors 😔 https://t.co/1yPJcqdH0b — Bob Wulff (@BobWulff) December 26, 2021 Logan Paul recently posted a TikTok where he soaks several Game Boy Colors in resin and then turns them into a tabletop. Many people were impressed by Paul’s ability to create this piece, but there are also plenty of people who aren’t as impressed. Bob Wulff, a notable retro gamer and YouTuber, was among many to criticize Logan Paul’s DIY project. Many stated that Paul had ruined pieces of history and pointed out that a few of the Game Boys were limited/special editions. Game Boys tend to sell for around $70 USD on Ebay and Amazon. Yet, they can sell for hundreds of dollars depending on their condition and rarity. But to someone like Logan, who is willing to spend millions of dollars on Pokemon cards, a few thousand dollars for 15 Game Boys might not seem like much. Regardless, retro collectors on Twitter aren’t upset with Paul buying the Game Boy Colors. Instead, they are upset with how he chose to ruin the Game Boys instead of preserving them. Everyone here who says “they probably didn’t work” obviously has never owned a gameboy or gameboy color since you can fucking play basketball with that thing and it’ll still be fine. As shown above, some users even provided Logan Paul with these ideas, albeit a little too late. For more Logan Paul, check out how much he’s spent on NFTs this year, and stay tuned for more news.

Twitter suspends man after sharing Pokemon Game Boy collection – Dexerto
Twitter suspends man after sharing Pokemon Game Boy collection Twitter/Twitter: Cantdie_A man on Twitter says that the platform suspended him for 12 hours after sharing a picture of his Pokemon collection, stating that he was “promoting or encouraging self-harm.” Since Pokemon launched its video game series in 1996, millions of fans have taken to collecting the popular games and other Pokemon-related items — often finding happiness in what they’ve acquired. It’s so popular in fact, that people from around the world use social media platforms to share pictures of what they’ve acquired throughout the years. Twitter user Cantdie, however, says sharing a picture of his Pokemon Game Boy collection led to him getting suspended for 12 hours with the app claiming he “promoted self-harm.” Man claims Twitter suspended him after sharing Pokemon picture In a post on May 16, Cantdie — whose first name is Joel — returned from his Twitter suspension to reveal what actually happened to his account. The user showed a screenshot of Twitter saying he violated rules against “promoting or encouraging suicide or self-harm.” According to Joel, however, he was simply sharing a photo of his Pokemon collection when he was banned. Speaking with Dexerto, Joel revealed that he was posting about his new Nintendo 3DS when one of his followers mentioned how much her son would enjoy the content. “I [replied] with a pic of my Pokemon [and] handheld collection and got banned,” he explained. “My main concern is that the automation service is obviously very broken. The fact that I got flagged for promoting self-harm/suicide when I posted a picture of a children’s game is eye-opening.” Luckily for Joel, his account has been reinstated, but it’s clear that he’s not exactly happy with the platform’s moderation. Twitter takes shots at Instagram on their own platform – Dexerto
Twitter takes shots at Instagram on their own platform Twitter has decided to step up its troll game on the company’s official Instagram account, calling out the photo and video-based social media site over nabbed screenshots. On September 4, 2019 Twitter began posting screenshots of tweets on its Instagram page. The first of which was a tweet that reads, “Instagram is literally just screenshots of tweets and I think @Twitter should call them out.” Surprisingly, Twitter obliged, and indeed called out the Facebook-owned platform, and also updated their bio on the site to just read “Screenshots of Tweets.” The other posts appear to be generic tweets screengrabbed and uploaded. It’s unclear if Twitter asked the users for their permission before using their tweets on Instagram. Meanwhile, Instagram’s official Twitter account hasn’t answered back. But we wouldn’t be shocked to see the platform strike back in some capacity, after all, Twitter is mocking them on their own platform. Twitter spam bot helps fake David Dobrik YouTube channel hit 90k subs – Dexerto
Twitter spam bot helps fake David Dobrik YouTube channel hit 90k subs YouTube: David DobrikHigh-profile creators are being targeted by Twitter bots promoting a “fan-made” YouTube channel posting David Dobrik’s live streams — and somehow it’s working. In August David Dobrik did his first-ever live stream on Twitch playing Warzone, and gave away $1,000 every time he won a game. Understandably, people were ecstatic that this huge internet personality had entered the streaming world, especially playing with people such as Florida Mutineers’ Cesar ‘Skyz’ Bueno. YouTube channels posting highlights from his streams were a natural progression and include the channel in question called “David Dobrik Live Streams.” It already has 93,600 followers, with the first video being posted on August 30. But it seems as though the reason behind a large number of subscribers in such a short space of time is down to the sheer number of bots terrorizing Twitter users asking them to watch, with several high-profile creators getting the brunt of it. Bots on Twitter have become a consistent problem. In April 2020, the platform removed 20,000 fake accounts, while back in 2018 it reportedly removed 70 million fake accounts. While Twitter is working on a system to identify the bots, fake accounts can still be created and used to spread misinformation. CDL player Clayster tweeted, “Who is the one person who keeps making five thousand accounts to tweet me his David Dobrik playing Warzone videos? I must know, you need help. I’ve had to block at least 50+ accounts.” WHO IS THE ONE PERSON WHO KEEPS MAKING FIVE THOUSAND ACCOUNTS TO TWEET ME HIS DAVID DOBRIK PLAYING WARZONE VIDEOS? I MUST KNOW, YOU NEED HELP. I’VE HAD TO BLOCK AT LEAST 50+ ACCOUNTS — Clayster (@Clayster) December 15, 2020 Other famous faces agreed and said they had also been targeted. Crimsix wrote, “Wait, wtf same,” while YouTuber Casey Neistat wrote called it “a particularly aggressive bot.” Other targeted influencers who claimed to victims of the relentless account included FaZe Simp, Drift0r, and musician Jordan Wright. The about section of the channel confirms that it’s not linked to the YouTuber himself, with the note: “I try to upload daily videos from David Dobrik’s live stream if he is currently streaming. This is a fan channel and not David’s.” Dexerto has reached out to David Dobrik’s team for comment.

Twitter sends cheeky message as Facebook, Instagram & Whatsapp down – Dexerto
Twitter sends cheeky message as Facebook, Instagram & Whatsapp down Twitter, FacebookIt’s a dark day on the internet when Facebook goes down, and that’s exactly what’s happened on October 4. Twitter, seeing a great opportunity, decided to cash in on the opportunity for a light jab at the social media giant. Facebook is among the cornerstones of the social media world, breaking barriers for digital networking, and getting many users in the early 2000’s off sites like MySpace. But, even a giant can fall, or trip, from time to time. On October 4, the social network and some of the sites it owns are down like Instagram, WhatsApp, and Telegram, begging the question, “What does a day without Facebook look like?” Literally everyone is on Twitter The bird app took the opportunity to promote its healthy servers at the expense of Facebook today, greeting its users with a friendly tweet. A quirky jab for a quirky app. “hello literally everyone,” it tweeted. These outages have been trending on Twitter, sparking a host of hilarious quips from the app’s users. Whether it be McDonald’s getting in on the trolling, or callbacks to Netflix’s Squid Game, there have been hilarious reactions to the outage, such as “Only Twitter made it to the second game” and Mr Bean videos. WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook eliminated. Only Twitter made it to the second game. pic.twitter.com/YfPETCPsHj — Miguel ♡ | RAWE CEEK 🇹🇷 (@FormulaMiguel) October 4, 2021 #facebookdown WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook still down. Meanwhile Twitter pic.twitter.com/qDZ4Dc7E1K— Abhijit Dhar (@avidhar91) October 4, 2021 Jokes aside, there has been no indication when the sites will be back up, or what has caused the network outage. Funny enough, the “facebook.com” domain name is currently listed for sale on domaintools.com, so perhaps that indicates some source of the issue. Whatever the case may be, we will continue to provide updates on the ongoing situation and will be sure to check in if Twitter continues trolling its social media counterpart. Stay tuned!

So, it wasn’t an April Fools Day joke after all. Since its launch in 2006, users of the social media website have requested the ability to edit their posts. The feature has become widely sought after, with more and more users calling for it daily. The platform has teased the feature many times, including as recently as April 1, 2022, — also known as April Fools Day. Elon Musk even teased the feature after buying 9% of the company on April 5. Twitter reveals long-awaited edit button Twitter announced the feature just hours after Elon Musk released his poll, confirming that his post did not influence the decision. They said: “Now that everyone is asking… yes, we’ve been working on an edit feature since last year! “No, we didn’t get the idea from a poll. We’re kicking off testing within @TwitterBlue Labs in the coming months to learn what works, what doesn’t, and what’s possible.” The company also shared a gif of how the feature could work once fully released. https://twitter.com/TwitterComms/status/1511456430024364037?s=20&t=-7DzJCWv0f8AAXD7yy1-Nw Fans react to Twitter edit button announcement Just minutes after Twitter revealed that they have been working on the long-awaited edit button, users took to the comments to express their concerns. Twitter responds to widespread YouTuber hacks – Dexerto
Twitter responds to widespread YouTuber hacks THOROUGHLYREVIEWD, FLICKR / James Charles, InstagramOn August 24, the Twitter accounts of several major YouTubers were hacked by what appeared to be a single group, which posted racist, homophobic, and other offensive messages to their profiles – and Twitter has finally responded to the incidents. While no cause of the attack was directly stated on the outset, Twitter confirmed that the hacking of its co-founder, Jack Dorsey, was due to a “security oversight” by his mobile provider, after his own account was compromised a week later by the same hackers. Now, the site is making another massive statement – and a huge change to its operations until the “oversight” has been remedied. The phone number associated with the account was compromised due to a security oversight by the mobile provider. This allowed an unauthorized person to compose and send tweets via text message from the phone number. That issue is now resolved. — Twitter Comms (@TwitterComms) August 31, 2019 Twitter posted a thread regarding the hacks on September 4, announcing that they will temporarily disable Tweeting by SMS until action is taken by mobile providers in regards to security. Read More: Pokimane catches merch thief red-handed – “We’re taking this step because of vulnerabilities that need to be addressed by mobile carriers and our reliance on having a linked phone number for two-factor authentication,” the site wrote. We’re taking this step because of vulnerabilities that need to be addressed by mobile carriers and our reliance on having a linked phone number for two-factor authentication (we’re working on improving this). — Twitter Support (@TwitterSupport) September 4, 2019 Twitter has since restored this feature in “a few locations” as of September 5, but Tweeting via text message remains disabled for the rest of the globe at the time of writing. Although no official cause of the hacks was known at the time, former Vine star King Bach accused an AT&T employee of switching his SIM card – a possibility that Twitter appeared to confirm in their own post on August 30. “…This allowed an unauthorized person to compose and send tweets via text message from the phone number,” the site wrote of Dorsey’s hacking. “That issue is now resolved.” It wasn’t just Dorsey and Bach who were affected by the high-profile hacks, either: YouTube stars Shane Dawson, James Charles, and even deceased YouTuber Desmond “Etika” Amofah were likewise victims of the virtual attacks, which incited fan outrage across the platform. Twitter reveals new verified guidelines amid updated Blue subscription launch – Dexerto
Twitter reveals new verified guidelines amid updated Blue subscription launch TwitterTwitter has revealed its new guidelines on how to get verified amid the launch of Elon Musk’s new $7.99 Twitter Blue subscription. Since taking over Twitter on October 27, Elon Musk has made quite a few changes to the popular social media app. One of those changes is the features of Twitter Blue. In a new $8 subscription, users worldwide are now able to get the coveted blue checkmark beside their name. Alongside the rollout of the new Twitter Blue subscription is a new set of verified guidelines. Here’s everything we know about them. How to get verified on Twitter At the time of writing, the only way to receive the new Twitter Blue subscription is by signing up via the iOS app after November 9, 2022, for $7.99 a month. The subscription is currently available in the US, Canada, Australia New Zealand, and the UK. Twitter can take away your Blue checkmark “for any reason” According to the new guidelines, Twitter Blue subscribers’ Blue checkmark may be taken away “at any time for any reason at all.” This could be caused by a violation of the existing Twitter Rules, including spam, ban evasion, and impersonation. Bans for impersonation have already begun, with H3’s Ethan Klein being among the first after he mocked Elon Musk by changing his display name. Elon Musk immediately rolls back “Official” Twitter verification On the morning of November 9, users began reporting an “Official” label on many large accounts across the platform. It was created as a way to identify political parties, commercial companies, major brands, media outlets, and publishers. However, Elon Musk quickly killed the labels — claiming that the checkmark will be the “great leveler.” At the time of writing, it is unknown what is going to happen with the labels in the future, but we’ll be sure to update this article as we find out more. In the meantime, head over to our entertainment section to check out more news.

Twitter reacts: CallMeCarson sparks controversy by returning to social media – Dexerto
Twitter reacts: CallMeCarson sparks controversy by returning to social media Twitch: CallMeCarsonStreamer and YouTuber CallMeCarson shocked many when he returned to social media after five months of silence following his scandal, but people are divided over whether it’s right for the creator to return to posting. In January 2021, Carson was accused of grooming underage fans, and after he lost several friends and countless fans over the controversy, he quickly went silent on the internet, ceasing to post on all platforms. In the five months since the controversy, the streamer has ‘unofficially’ resurfaced online twice. In one instance in April, Ludwig revealed that Carson had messaged him while on stream during his subathon to request that he turn off a video featuring him that was auto-playing. Then in May he ‘accidentally’ posted an old political article, though many people believed the post to be a deliberate way of testing the waters for his return. Now, the streamer has caused uproar again after he posted a tweet on June 19 that read: “Give me a little bit longer.” The unexpected post immediately caught people’s attention on social media, but not everyone agrees that he should make a comeback. Fans want Carson to return There were some fans who felt that the initial response to the allegations had been disproportionate, and some even went as far as to say they “can’t wait” for him to return fully to social media and content creation. https://twitter.com/Lotad69/status/1406461718864220160 Original Tweet Others blamed Twitter for the huge controversy, and claimed that those who are still mad at him need to “grow the f**k up and get over it.” Original Tweet Backlash against Carson’s ‘comeback’ However, Twitter was also flooded with messages from those who still feel Carson should stay away from social media. Some pointed out the fact that even Carson’s friends distanced themselves from him. don’t get me wrong i used to love carsons content but the fact that his friends aren’t even friends w him anymore says a lot — ☆ (@p5ychonauts) June 20, 2021 So we gonna ignore the fact this dude got nudes from a minor? His name started trending after Carson dropped his tweet, with many drawing comparisons between the two creators. People asked why the response to Carson’s behavior hadn’t been matched when it came to the allegations against James. https://twitter.com/chelseamay214/status/1406490895042498561 Original Tweet How long Carson is planning to wait before making his return is unclear, and it’s also not known whether he plans to make a video addressing the allegations or jump straight back into regular content creation. Regardless, his return will continue to divide opinion online.

Twitter reacts to GameStop & Robinhood saga: xQc, Elon Musk, & more – Dexerto
Twitter reacts to GameStop & Robinhood saga: xQc, Elon Musk, & more Wikimedia Commons: jurvetson / Twitch: xQcOnline personalities have been weighing in with their thoughts via Twitter on the insane GameStop and Robinhood drama to sweep not just the internet, but the world’s media. The last group of people who were expected to shake up the stock market was a group of Redditors, but that’s exactly what they did when their mission to “short-squeeze” GameStop’s stock went viral, causing absolute chaos to erupt. On January 28 $GME hit its peak of $469.42, but the climb was put to a halt when moves from popular trading apps like Robinhood meant restrictions for those trying to trade GameStop stock. This promptly led to outrage from not only regular people, but many influencers, politicians, and more who had something to say about the way the situation was being handled by these huge companies. Whether it was hot takes, criticisms, or memes, it seems like everyone had something to say. Business mogul and Tesla owner Elon Musk gave the buzz a boost when he shared a link to the subreddit that started it all, /r/WallStreetBets, with the simple caption “gamestonk!” He also weighed in with his opinion that “shorting is a scam,” taking the side of the subreddit. Carlos ‘ocelote’ Rodríguez Santiago, the founder of G2 Esports, hit out at trading app Robinhood for ironically “stealing from the poor,” and FaZe banks revealed that he had actually had his $NOK order canceled by the app, calling them “scum.” https://twitter.com/CarlosR/status/1354867211853299712 No I didn’t, you did @RobinhoodApp. You guys are fucked. Logan’s brother Jake Paul even uploaded a fight poster of him and the CEO of Robinhood, saying “I think the Robinhood CEO needs an ass-whooping.” I think the robinhood CEO needs an ass whooping pic.twitter.com/KGt57bqGRT — Jake Paul (@jakepaul) January 29, 2021 Streamer xQc also joined in on the conversation, tweeted an all caps message calling the “stock manipulating” a “disaster.” Read More: Can Jake Paul beat Ben Askren? – In another tweet, he also referred to Robinhood as “shameless shmucks.” The GameStop saga has certainly been a mind-blowing one, and it seems to be bringing together huge groups of politicians, influencers, personalities, and ordinary people as the drama with Robinhood continues.

Twitter prophet predicted Chris Pratt’s Mario movie casting, leaving fans floored – Dexerto
Twitter prophet predicted Chris Pratt’s Mario movie casting, leaving fans floored Wikimedia Commons: Gage Skidmore / NintendoChris Pratt’s surprise casting as Mario in the upcoming movie was expected by no one — except one Twitter prophet. A tweet dating back to May 2020 has gone viral after one user’s big brain was on display after the Nintendo Direct announcement. When the Mario movie — and its talent — was announced on September 23 during a Nintendo Direct presentation, the internet went crazy over the casting decisions. The film will see Chris Pratt take up the mantle of the iconic red-capped plumber, with Charlie Day, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Jack Black featuring as Luigi, Peach, and Bowser respectively. While these announcements caused quite the buzz already, it only got more hectic when a tweet from May 2020 resurfaced predicting the casting — going viral shortly after. Viral tweet predicts Chris Pratt in Nintendo’s Mario movie Twitter user StheGeneral’s throwaway tweet didn’t really have any ramifications back in 2020. “I’m calling it now, the Mario Bros movie will not have Charles Martinet play Mario for no reason and cast someone like Chris Pratt,” they said over 12 months ago. It didn’t really do numbers at the time, but after the Nintendo Direct, the tweet quickly became a viral hit, reaching nearly 100,000 likes at the time of publishing. I’m calling it now, the Mario Bros movie will NOT have Charles Martinet play Mario for no reason and cast someone like Chris Pratt — StheGeneral (@general_sthe) May 21, 2020 Of course, the internet melted down. Some joked that StheGeneral had a time machine. Even some of the biggest names like jschlatt couldn’t believe the kind of prophecy random internet users were tweeting out years in advance. Chris Pratt was rumored to be in contention for a role in the film, before the movie went through a total redesign due to widespread criticism. While he missed that one, he’s found himself in another gaming pop culture hit — even if not everyone in internet fandom is too pleased. Man I’m not even watching the Nintendo Direct yet but lemme say: Fuck this casting celebrities as video game characters in their movies thing. Let Roger Craig Smith be Sonic, let Charles Martinet be Mario, no one wants to see them reinvent Mario to act like Chris Pratt. — Matt Shipman 🌪️Vongola Storm Guardian 🌪️ (@MattShipmanVO) September 23, 2021 StheGeneral did have the last laugh after the tweet went viral though: “If there’s one ‘decent’ thing about this I guess Chris Pratt’s career hasn’t been canceled anymore?” Whether it was a shot in the dark or an educated guess, hats off to StheGeneral for getting this one right.

Twitter re-enables “Official” tag after Twitter Blue verification fiasco – Dexerto
Twitter re-enables “Official” tag after Twitter Blue verification fiasco TwitterTwitter has enabled the “Official” tag for specific verified accounts yet again as the social media platform deals with the fallout of Twitter Blue’s verification feature. The feature was added then removed within hours when paid verification dropped. One of Elon Musk’s big promises after buying Twitter for $44 billion was to verify all humans on the platform and bring parity to regular users and their verified celebrity counterparts. However the implementation of paid verification via Twitter Blue, the social media platform’s paid subscription for $8 a month, has backfired entirely. Immediately users were impersonating famous stars — including the new CEO himself — with little distinguishing from the old verification stamp and the new one outside of a small disclaimer on profiles. Originally the paid verification shipped with a feature verifying some high-interest accounts as official. Those who received the extra tick varied from news publications to internet influencers to politicians. This was shot down by Musk and removed within hours. It has since returned to the platform late on November 11 though, with the “Official” checkmark now appearing in addition to the blue tick on specific accounts. Certain brand accounts, big name creators, and sports stars have received the Official badge on top of their existing mark. Instead of just being visible on user profiles, it is now visible under each tweet too. Numerous parties complained about the Twitter Blue verification rollout for many reasons. Impersonation was the glaring fault, but another was verified notification tabs now being flooded with random users who paid $8 a month. Verified users also can’t change their name without losing their checkmark — previously it was only changing the handle that removed the tick. Twitter’s verification fiasco has been dunked on widely, with Tumblr offering users two ticks for the price of one. Before the rollout, #RatVerified trended on the platform as some revolted against the paid verification. Musk did state “Twitter will do lots of dumb things in coming months,” but is yet to officially announce any changes to verification amid the outcry.

Twitter officially launches edit tweet function in testing phase – Dexerto
Twitter officially launches edit tweet function in testing phase The internet is going wild after Twitter has revealed that they’re finally in the testing phase for the highly anticipated edit tweet feature. Since Twitter’s release in 2006, users have repeatedly requested a way to edit their tweets after they’ve been published. While an edit tweet feature has been teased numerous times over the years, it looks like we’re finally on the cusp of getting one. if you see an edited Tweet it’s because we’re testing the edit button — Twitter (@Twitter) September 1, 2022 this is happening and you’ll be okay As revealed by Twitter themselves in a blog post published on September 1, ‘Edit Tweet functionality’ is going through internal testing before becoming available to paid Twitter Blue subscribers in the coming weeks. First look at Twitter edit feature According to Twitter, users will be able to make changes to their Tweets after it’s been published. Specifically for this testing period, Tweets will be able to be edited a “few times” in the first 30 minutes. Presumably, to combat any potential trolls, it will be clear to readers with an icon, timestamp, and label that the original Tweet has been modified. Clicking the label will also show the Tweet’s edit history. Twitter first shared the tweet editing feature with a smaller group to help with feedback and identify issues. For now, we probably won’t be seeing many edited tweets on our timelines. However, later in September, it’ll be expanded to a larger group by giving Twitter Blue subscribers hands-on access.

Twitter suffers major worldwide outage as users logged out abruptly – Dexerto
Twitter suffers major worldwide outage as users logged out abruptly Twitter / Unsplash: Dave HoeflerTwitter is currently facing a major outage on December 28 as users are logged out abruptly across the world. While users who are currently logged in are safe, many are reporting being unable to access their profiles after refreshing. Twitter is breaking down, with the social media platform facing a major outage on December 28. Thousands of users have reported being unable to log into the platform, and some are even being logged out abruptly after refreshing their browsers. The issue started on desktop platforms, but mobile users are also getting errors about being unable to access tweets. Twitter is yet to acknowledge the issue. The platform’s API status page is showing all systems clear, with no issues reported. It does not have a public log-in or server status page. Those few lucky ones who haven’t been logged out yet are tweeting about the incident, with the #TwitterDown hashtag once again trending — like it always does during these situations. Some are blaming the outage on Elon Musk’s buyout of Twitter. The Tesla CEO has been criticized for his handling of the social media company in his short tenure so far, gutting staff to the point where many were concerned about its ability to rebound from a major outage. We will keep you posted as to when Twitter is up and running again.

Twitter may allow you to untag yourself from unwanted conversations soon – Dexerto
Twitter may allow you to untag yourself from unwanted conversations soon Twitter / CanvaTwitter may soon be allowing users to untag themselves from unwanted conversations, a tool that could greatly help to prevent spam and harassment. Twitter is one of the current major social media apps that dominates the realms of entertainment, gaming, sports, and much more. With a massive slate of features, the site allows users to communicate with each other in so many different ways. But, what it currently lacks is a way to leave some of these conversations. However, that may not be the case for long. Twitter potentially adding untag feature As social media is meant to be a way to recreate communication in a digital space, one thing that many sites lack is the way to leave a conversation. We do this in the real world in a variety of different ways, but apps like Twitter often force us to stay in a potentially unwanted dialogue with only the ability to silence notifications. However, social media leaker Jane Wong recently posted an image to the app of a new feature that would allow users to do just that. It appears the new addition would add untagging, prevent future mentions, and halt notifications on any conversations that you’d like to “leave.” Twitter is working on an onboarding screen for “Leave this conversation” pic.twitter.com/cZYeOdo1pJ — Jane Manchun Wong (@wongmjane) February 18, 2022 This feature is, for the time being, just a leak so we encourage readers to take the image above and the supposed features with a grain of salt. But, if it were to go live, it looks to be called “Leave this Conversation,” and would allow users to do the things mentioned above, privately. Read More: How much money do YouTubers make? – This would be the first time a social media app has allowed a conversation-specific feature like this one, with others simply having the ability to mute notifications or block certain users.

Twitter launching TikTok-style video feed with ‘Videos for you’ section – Dexerto
Twitter launching TikTok-style video feed with ‘Videos for you’ section Unsplash: Brett JordanTwitter has announced they will be rolling out an “immersive” video feed similar to TikTok, along with a ‘Videos for you’ section on the app. On September 29, Twitter revealed in a blog post that they are going to be rolling out two new video features to the platform. The first is their “updated immersive media viewer,” which they say, “expands videos to full screen with a single click, allowing you to easily access the full, immersive viewing experience.” Once you’ve tapped a video to activate the viewer, you will be able to scroll up to start browsing more video content. The second feature is a ‘Videos for you’ carousel, with the blog post explaining: “With our new video carousel, you can now easily find more videos you like alongside Tweets and Trends that might interest you. Just open the Explore tab to discover some of the most popular videos being shared on Twitter.” Many are drawing comparisons between these new features, and TikTok’s popular For You Page, which allows users to scroll through full-screen vertical videos to discover suggested content recommended for the user by the app’s algorithm. A number of apps have taken inspiration from TikTok’s popular feed, including Amazon, Instagram, and more, though many of these apps, Instagram particularly, have received backlash from users who don’t want the platforms to attempt to ‘copy’ TikTok. Twitter has also received backlash in the past for testing video features similar to TikTok. Twitter says their immersive media viewer will be available “in the coming days” to people using Twitter in English on iOS, and that their video carousel is currently available “to people in select countries using Twitter in English on iOS and Android.” Whether the features are rolled out to more countries and devices remains to be seen, as well as whether or not they are popular among Twitter users.

Twitter looking to add new awards system akin to Reddit with virtual Coin currency – Dexerto
Twitter looking to add new awards system akin to Reddit with virtual Coin currency TwitterTwitter is currently toying with the idea of a new awards system on the social media platform, one that largely mirrors Reddit with its own virtual currency and user-nominated badges. Ever since Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover in October, 2022, the blue bird has certainly seen a number of drastic changes. Whether it’s to the verification system, high-profile bans, or simply to off-site promotion, the new owner has clearly made his mark in no time at all. Now looking to shake things up even further, it appears the platform is gearing up to add an awards system akin to that found on Reddit. As first reported by Jane Manchun Wong on, you guessed it, Twitter, an extensive list of ‘Twitter Awards’ was uncovered at the beginning of 2023. This new awards range from ‘1 Gem, 1 Crown, 1 Rose, 1 Mind Blow, 1 Super Like,’ and plenty more in between. The most affordable option sits atop the list, valued at ‘1 Twitter Coin,’ a new virtual currency seemingly launching alongside this system. Meanwhile, the most expensive on the list comes in at 5,000 Twitter Coins. Exactly how much these coins will cost you in terms of real money, is yet unclear. But in essence, Twitter users will be able to purchase awards with their virtual Twitter Coin currency, and then give these awards to any post on their timeline as they see fit. Awarding a post with any given accolade in turn gives the original author of the tweet a set amount of money. If something is funny, there’s a ‘1 Hilarious’ award to label it as such. In doing so, the author of the tweet will receive a certain dollar amount associated with the award. An early test version of the system shows a payout threshold of $50 USD. This system has allegedly been in the works for “a while now,” meaning its launch could be imminent. As with most new features on the platform, those paying for a premium Twitter Blue subscription will likely receive access first before the awards are rolled out platform-wide soon after. An exact release date has not yet been locked in.

Twitter “killer” Hive Social disappears from App Store over security concerns – Dexerto
Twitter “killer” Hive Social disappears from App Store over security concerns Hive SocialOnce thought of as a Twitter “killer,” Hive Social has disappeared from the Apple App Store just weeks after security issues were brought to light. Ever since Elon Musk took over Twitter on October 27, many users of the popular microblogging site have worried about it potentially being shut down by Musk, or even removed from the Apple or Google app stores. With that, other platforms like Mastodon and Hive Social have seen insane growth from users trying to make their new homes, with the former being adopted en mass by Twitch streamers, content creators, and more. Hive Social became aware of multiple security issues on December 1, 2022, and promptly shut down the app’s servers to fix them. Hive Social removed from Apple App Store On December 13, fans of the platform began noticing that the app was no longer available for download through the Apple App Store. According to Apple’s App Store guidelines, apps should implement “appropriate security measures” to ensure proper handling of user content and “prevent its unauthorized use, disclosure, or access by third parties.” Among hundreds of others, Twitter user Alyssa Sweetman shared her thoughts: “I predict major trouble for Hive Social — you can’t find it in the Apple store. Apple tends to scrutinize apps more severely once they have security issues revealed (as an end user, this should also be concerning to you),” she said. “Now, If you can fix security issues fast Apple will be more willing to work with you because you’ve demonstrated you can quickly respond to critical issues,” Alyssa added. “This is going to become a problem for them even if they’re certified again for the app store.” Now, If you can fix security issues fast Apple will be more willing to work with you because you’ve demonstrated you can quickly respond to critical issues. — Alyssa Sweetman (@Alykkat) December 13, 2022 This is going to become a problem for them even if they’re certified again for the app store. On top of no longer being available in the App Store, users have review-bombed the app on the Google Play Store due to its instability and issues, bringing it down to just 1.5 stars. Hive Social security issues explained On November 30, the German Collective known as Zerforschung revealed multiple critical security vulnerabilities in the app. Their blog post showed that malicious users have the ability to access private messages, posts, images, and user data like phone numbers, emails, and birthdates. In a tweet, they revealed that one of the security issues is the ability to edit posts from other accounts. Hive shut down their servers the following day to allegedly fix these issues, but have explained in various Twitter posts that they’re working on front-end issues including the general performance of the app. They’ve yet to make a comment regarding their removal from the App Store, but we’ll be sure to update this article if they do.

Twitter launches gold & blue verified ticks: What do they mean? – Dexerto
Twitter launches gold & blue verified ticks: What do they mean? TwitterTwitter’s new verification system revamp is now in effect as Elon Musk looks to let anyone be verified on the social media platform, for a fee. So with new blue and gold ticks on the app, here’s a quick rundown on what they actually mean. With Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, we’ve seen ample changes made to the popular, bite-sized social media platform. Among these adjustments has been a desire to overhaul the existing verification system. Rather than celebrities, news outlets, government officials, and the like all sharing one common blue tick as before, Musk would rather any user be able to secure a once-privileged verified tick. In doing so, we now have multiple different checkmarks on Twitter to distinguish between various accounts. As you’re browsing through, you may notice not only the original blue checkmarks but now gold ticks as well. So if you’re wondering what it all means, we’ve got you covered here with a full explanation. What are blue verified ticks on Twitter? With Twitter Blue’s premium subscription, any user is able to verify their account for a monthly fee. In doing so, this provides a blue verified tick on the platform, so long as that subscription continues. This form of verification is signified by clicking on the blue tick and seeing that the account pays for Twitter Blue. However, that’s not all. Previously verified accounts prior to Musk’s takeover also have blue checkmarks for the time being. Without requiring a Twitter Blue subscription, these select accounts have a blue tick that reads: “This is a legacy account. It may or may not be notable.” In a few months time, Musk has promised to remove these checkmarks for good, meaning blue ticks will only be available for those that pay. What are gold verified ticks on Twitter? New to Twitter as of December 12, gold checkmarks are now available on Twitter for official business accounts. While these businesses won’t be recognized automatically, brands must pay for Twitter Blue for Business to secure a gold tick on their company account. This means you won’t see any individuals with golden checkmarks on Twitter, only businesses. What is the official label on Twitter? Last but not least, with the confusion surrounding blue checkmarks, as some users are notable and others have simply paid for verification, Twitter has also added an ‘Official’ label. Accounts with this additional feature will have the word ‘Official’ directly under their name on the profile page. Official labels are restricted purely for “government accounts, political organizations, and commercial companies including business partners, major brands, media outlets, publishers, and some public figures,” Twitter states.

Twitter influencer Luulubuu apologizes after scamming accusations – Dexerto
Twitter influencer Luulubuu apologizes after scamming accusations TwitterTwitter influencer Luulubuu has issued an apology, following allegations of scamming and gaslighting. The apology comes after content creator Liam Robertson compiled claims against Luulubuu, which include “scamming” and “emotionally abusive behavior.” Luulubuu, a social media influencer and former community manager, has come under fire for numerous allegations of scamming. The allegations were raised prominently originally from Liam Robertson, a gaming content creator. Luulubuu has now issued a formal apology to the claims detailed by Robertson. Luulubuu accusations Accusations made against Luulbuu include allegations of manipulation, “gaslighting” and scamming other users out of money. It is claimed that paid art commissions were not fulfilled by Luulubuu, with multiple accusations of Luulubuu failing to complete art commissions, despite receiving payment. (@PlaystationBrah) August 21, 2021 Additionally, Luulubuu was accused of causing issues for numerous members of a private Discord server, sending messages from ‘fake’ accounts within the server that apparently caused tension between users. Allegations of creating fake accounts to manipulate, gaslight and abuse to tear apart a Discord community (this is its own thread): https://t.co/uxCohPEpOa — Liam (@liamrobertson.bsky) (@Doctor_Cupcakes) August 21, 2021 These claims were echoed by other users across social media. On August 23, Aggro Crab released Luulubuu from a community manager role. Luulubuu apologizes At the time of writing, Luulubuu has currently deactivated their Twitter account. However, their apology letter still remains available to view in full. “First of all I want you if you were hurt for my actions directly or indirectly, I apologize to you,” Luulubuu began. “You are probably aware that there have been threads narrating things I have said that are not good at all. I want to address these and then just apologize because I’m not here to prove any other party wrong. If they are affected and hurt then I have to apologize.” While the former creator has addressed their actions, more information from Liam Robertson still reports that Luulubuu is continuing similar behavior of which they were accused. I have been receiving private correspondence from as recent as a couple of hours ago in which Lulu was *STILL* attempting to manipulate someone in the most transparent way possible. For those reasons, the idea that they’re owning up to what happened feels very disingenuous. — Liam (@liamrobertson.bsky) (@Doctor_Cupcakes) August 22, 2021 In their apology letter, they detail accounts of behavior specific to close friends and peers within the gaming industry, claiming it was due to “jealousy and anger.”

Twitter founder Jack Dorsey hacked after top YouTuber breaches Wikimedia Commons / FreepikOn August 24, multiple top YouTubers saw their Twitter accounts hacked by the same group of people – but they didn’t stop at online entertainers, and have since taken control of Twitter’s own founder, Jack Dorsey. Twitter users across the app sounded off on August 30, after the founder’s account retweeted a slew of highly offensive posts containing racial slurs, anti Semetic messages, and references to Nazi Germany. However, many of the posts had something in common – the use of the hashtag “chuckling,” a phrase used by the same hackers (or hacker) who attacked the accounts of top YouTubers just a week earlier. 400https://twitter.com/MalwareJake/status/1167528275100557313?s=20400https://twitter.com/MalwareJake/status/1167528275100557313?s=20 In fact, these hackers warned netizens that they weren’t finished with their plans, writing, “We will be coming for everyone” using the account of makeup mogul James Charles. 600While the offensive Tweets have since been deleted from Dorsey’s account, users are still shocked by the virtual attack, with Twitter reportedly stating to BBC that they are currently investigating the matter. With the hackers posting largely the same messages, hashtags, and Discord links, their concentrated efforts are making major waves in the social media space – and there’s no telling when they’ll finally get caught.

Twitter hit with $500 million lawsuit from former employees – Dexerto
Twitter hit with $500 million lawsuit from former employees TwitterTwitter allegedly owes $500 million in severance pay to laid-off employees according to a lawsuit filed against the company. There have been a lot of changes to Twitter since Elon Musk acquired the company, including more than half of its employees being laid off for supposed cost-cutting measures. One of those employees was Courtney McMillian, who had previously worked as the “head of total rewards,” overseeing Twitter’s employee benefits programs. Now, McMillian is reportedly taking action against Musk and Twitter, filing a proposed class action lawsuit in the San Francisco federal court. McMillian was laid off in January and has since claimed many employees were not properly paid according to a severance plan Twitter created in 2019. The plan promised any laid-off workers two months of their base pay plus an additional one week of pay for each full year of service they gave. Senior employees were owed six months of their base pay if laid off, a title McMillian falls under. But according to the lawsuit, Twitter only gave laid-off workers one month of severance pay at most, with many not receiving anything. This would be a violation of federal law regulating employee benefit plans. And this isn’t the first time Twitter has been sued since Musk took over the company. In fact, there have already been lawsuits filed against Twitter for failing to pay severance, though these cases involved a breach of contract claim rather than the benefits law. Another lawsuit accused Twitter of failing to pay owed bonuses to its remaining employees, a claim the company has stated lacks merit. When Reuters requested Twitter to comment on this latest lawsuit against the company, they allegedly responded only with the poop emoji. Twitter erupts as Tommyinnit leaks Addison Rae in Dream SMP Minecraft server – Dexerto
Twitter erupts as Tommyinnit leaks Addison Rae in Dream SMP Minecraft server Twitch, @Tommyinnit / Minecraft, @Dream / Twitter, @whoisaddisonWorlds collide and Twitter explodes as Twitch streamer Tommyinnit surprisingly leaked that TikTok superstar Addison Rae is in the Dream SMP (survival multiplayer) Minecraft Discord server. Founded by the Dream Team, the private, whitelisted Dream SMP Minecraft server is a world of roleplay, drama and, above all else, entertainment. Familiar with their fair share of intriguing characters, fans are now pushing the limits of curiosity and excitement at the possibility that a mainstream, TikTok icon could be stepping into the Minecraft players, Twitch streamers and YouTubers’ arena. Dream, the faceless persona behind the server, has a hefty 16 million subscribers on YouTube. Tommyinnit, the teenage Englishman and one of the world’s fastest-growing streamers, has 3 million followers on Twitch. Rae, who jumped into fame for clean dance moves, has 34 million followers on Instagram and 75 million on TikTok. During a Twitch stream, Tommyinnit couldn’t contain himself as he noticed Rae in the Dream SMP’s Discord general channel. Expressing serious surprise and confusion, the streamer discussed her presence and quickly lit social media ablaze as fans debate what said presence could entail. While gaming once felt like a niche domain, internet celebs like Rae and James Charles, or even US politicians like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have all dabbled in the streaming world at the height of Among Us popularity. Unfortunately, Rae’s specific crossover experience in the Twitch streaming world was less than ideal as she encountered serious backlash for her Among Us session with Pokimane, Corpse Husband and, in what could now be considered a sneak peek, Dream. Undeterred by that hate, it appears that Rae’s interest in gaming is unfazed. And, to the delight of those who prefer positive energy over hate, the Dream SMP fans seem to be taking this leak in a much funnier, confusedly entertained light than Twitch chat had. https://twitter.com/1nn1t_/status/1350550768122793985 It remains unclear whether or not Rae will take an actual role within the Dream SMP or if she was simply testing the water by joining the Discord. When Tommyinnit later tried inviting the TikTok superstar to voice chat, she ignored the request, prompting him to jokingly call her a “d**khead.” Read more: Addison Rae’s most viewed TikToks of 2020 – With this leaked quasi-involvement already thrusting social media into a frenzied state, one can only imagine the potential for content if “Draem SMP” becomes a reality.

Twitter erupts after new Tips feature exposes PayPal users’ addresses – Dexerto
Twitter erupts after new Tips feature exposes PayPal users’ addresses Unsplash / TwitterTwitter’s brand new Tip Jar feature has resulted in a wave of backlash after PayPal users quickly discovered that their addresses were being leaked. Early on May 6, Twitter unveiled its latest innovation. The Tip Jar feature allows users to send money without actually leaving the app. Simply tapping on the new function brings up a variety of different payment options including PayPal, Venmo, and Cash App. It’s the first of these that caused major headaches mere hours after the feature went live. While users were quick to start sending money around and tipping those with the feature enabled, it came with one huge downside. Addresses were tied to these individual payments. If you send cash via PayPal, the receiver can then “get your address” if they check the receipt, Rachel Tobac confirmed after some early testing. While this has long been the way of things with PayPal transactions, Twitter’s new Tip Jar only magnified this bit of information. Without warning, users could accidentally be leaking their own address. “Twitter needs to educate users who don’t realize what info tip receivers get when using PayPal,” Tobac continued. While the thread quickly went viral with thousands of users chiming in, a Twitter representative soon followed up. “This is a good catch,” Twitter product lead Kayvon Bekpour said. “We can’t control the revealing of the address on PayPal’s side,” he confirmed. However, Twitter is now adding a “warning” for anyone that chooses to tip through PayPal. In doing so, users down the line will be aware before sending their personal information across. Shortly after, a spokesperson for PayPal also joined the conversation. Addresses are supposedly only shared if payments are sent under the ‘goods and services category,’ Yahoo reported. Instead, using the ‘friends and family’ option can keep this personal info under wraps. this is a good catch, thank you. we can’t control the revealing of the address on Paypal’s side but we will add a warning for people giving tips via Paypal so that they are aware of this. — Kayvon Beykpour (@kayvz) May 6, 2021 Regardless, PayPal is still jumping on board with Twitter’s decision to add a warning in hopes of raising awareness across the board. In the meantime, be sure to double-check every step of the process if you’re looking to tip various Twitter users. Read More: When is Discord coming to PlayStation? – Currently, the new feature is mostly limited to creators, journalists, experts, and nonprofits. However, Twitter confirmed that the Tip Jar will soon be accessible for plenty more accounts.

One such diet is the “paleolithic” diet, which sees people exclusively eat the foods that were accessible to cavemen, including fruits, nuts, vegetables and fish. However, @BlazenBrady has dialed this idea up to ten and gone viral after broadcasting his “raw primal diet” which involves eating purely raw meat, including chicken and beef, and animal produce. On May 7, Brady shared an image of his “raw primal” diet on Twitter. On his plate was a week-old steak, bacon rashers, and chicken breast – all of which was raw. This was accompanied by a glass of unpasteurized milk and butter. After being challenged over whether he actually ate what was on his plate, Brady shared a video where he munched on a piece of raw chicken. “It doesn’t taste bad,” he said. “I washed it down with milk to get used to it because I didn’t like the taste as much, now it’s a lot easier.” Since everyone is asking me for a video of eating raw chicken here you go. And remember the Raw Primal Diet is your natural diet, that regenerates you over time and will make you feel amazing. pic.twitter.com/8rxhWuhjfP — Blazen (@BlazenBrady) May 7, 2021 Brady’s diet caught the attention of a few people in the CoD community. “Buddy is WILD,” CoD League analyst Anthony ‘NAMELESS’ Wheeler said, while BuiltByGamers pro player Matt ‘KiSMET’ Tinsley tagged angry chef Gordon Ramsay. CoD coach Willett questioned the health benefits of having the food raw over just cooking it. “How much worse could it possibly be for you throwing some salt and pepper on it and slabbing it on the grill?” he said. how much worse could it possibly be for you throwing some salt n pepper on it and slabbing it on the grill — Phil (@Willett__) May 8, 2021 Some viewers’ reactions were much more visceral. Twitter user @katellandia said: “This is quite literally the most disgusting video I’ve ever seen.” this is quite literally the most disgusting video I’ve ever seen https://t.co/pVS3h37Yf5 — 𝓀𝒶𝓉𝑒 (@katellandia) May 8, 2021 While Brady advocates for this “primal diet”, multiple public health bodies warn against eating uncooked meat as the high bacterial content could cause illness. The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says: “Chicken can be a nutritious choice, but raw chicken is often contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. If you eat undercooked chicken or other foods or beverages contaminated by raw chicken or its juices, you can get a foodborne illness, which is also called food poisoning.” Even though Brady is clearly convinced by this diet, we’ll be sticking with frying our chicken in a pan for the foreseeable future.

Twitter ‘e-girls’ apologize as group chat leak exposes “fatphobic” messages – Dexerto
Twitter ‘e-girls’ apologize as group chat leak exposes “fatphobic” messages tsuwukii/mimsyheartA leaked group chat from some of Twitter’s most-followed ‘e-girls’ revealed messages showing the models using “fatphobic” terms, alongside other slurs. Twitter is a platform where users gain often go viral and gain a following on the back of it, posting a wide variety of content. In some instances, influencers have found success within their own niche. So-called ‘e-girls’ have gained massive popularity by immersing themselves in things like video games, cosplay, and anime – with some also posting suggestive photos. Many have racked up hundreds of thousands of followers as a result of posting such content, with a few eclipsing over a million followers. However, some of the biggest ‘e-girls’ on the platform have faced backlash after messages from their group chat leaked online. Twitter ‘e-girls’ use “fatphobic” messaging in leaked group chat Users have slammed the influencers over several controversial views, including insults directed at other models on the platform – using racial slurs – and even saying that people should “kill themselves.” Private group chat messages were leaked on Twitter by EGIRLFRIEND (aka Laur) in a thread that has amassed almost 100,000 likes at the time of writing and has been viewed over 25 million times. Twitter users were shocked by what was happening behind closed doors, with even those close to some of the women involved in the group chat being surprised and disappointed to see this behavior from “seemingly nice people.” “Your favorite e-girls are actually horrible human beings. Absolutely disgusting behavior,” Laur tweeted. The thread contains dozens of screenshots taken from the group chat involving several “e-girls.” The screenshots show the usage of racist slurs, as well as threats to cancel other creators on the platform. In addition to that, it shows someone saying “petition to get her to try it again” in regards to someone opening up about an attempt to take their own life. Plus, calling another model a “hideous ogre monster with Belle Delphine lips” and comparing her to a linebacker. Many other remarks in the group chat have been widely labeled as fatphobic. Laur, the original poster of these leaks, has also included a few tweets containing racial slurs made by Amber, one of the women in the group chat, that were posted in 2017. Twitter ‘e-girls’ apologize, some deactivate/private their accounts Some users have since posted apologies, while others have privated or deleted their Twitter accounts entirely. The apology from Amber came after leaked Discord messages arose from the day before. Some Twitter users say this lessened the validity of the apology. On top of saying “I DO NOT CARE AT ALL,” another conversation on Discord showed a discussion within the group that questioned why people were “mad about the fat shaming.” It said, “Just don’t eat and go gym,” as well as a message from Amber, saying: “I THINK SHE SHOULD KILL HERSELF.” Other Twitter models have spoken out about their time with the group of ‘e-girls,’ some of whom had additional allegations against those within the group. One user, harusaijin, called one of them a “crazy b****” in Korean. She was one of the users targeted in their group chat, with her pictures getting posted alongside comments like: “HAHAHA I GENUINELY CAN’T STAND HER” and “EW A MONSTER.” At the time of writing, none of the ‘e-girls’ in question have denied the leaked chain of texts, nor have they refuted what was said in the later leaked Discord messages. Amber had this to say in her apology: “I take full accountability for all my actions and all of the things I said. I definitely realize how harmful this behavior is. I let my anger and jealousy cloud my judgment and I am sorry for those who were hurt by my inability to settle my issues privately with those involved.” Twitter users are accusing them of posting apologies that aren’t genuine, with one replying: “Let’s be real, you are only apologizing cause it went viral, you aren’t actually sorry.” At the time of writing, Usagi and Amber still have publicly viewable Twitter accounts. You can read their full apologies for additional context on the situation.

Twitter & Discord influencers charged in $100 million stock scam – Dexerto
Twitter & Discord influencers charged in $100 million stock scam Discord/Twitter/CanvaAccording to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commissions, eight individuals were charged $100 million for a stock scam they performed on Twitter and Discord, where the individuals allegedly manipulated their followers. The scams began in January 2020, during which seven individuals “promoted themselves as successful traders and cultivated hundreds of thousands of followers on Twitter and in stock trading chatrooms on Discord.” They then pleaded their social media followers, estimated to be hundreds of thousands of people, to buy the stocks and to invest on both Twitter and Discord. These influencers expressed they had certain price points they wanted to reach, and wanted their followers to buy the stock to essentially help them reach that point. They allegedly fed the followers a plethora of misinformation to manipulate them. But without communicating with their big community of loyal followers, they sold their shares. In layman’s terms, they used their followers to increase the price of a stock, lied through omission and manipulated hundreds of thousands of followers in order to make a quick buck themselves. The alleged amount of profits is estimate to be $100 million. All the names and social media handles of the defendants were publicly revealed in the official press release: According to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s press release, “The complaint further charges Daniel Knight (Twitter Handle @DipDeity), of Texas, with aiding and abetting the alleged scheme by, among other things, co-hosting a podcast in which he promoted many of the other individuals as expert traders and provided them with a forum for their manipulative statements.” The SEC, also known as the Securities and Exchange Commission, filed their complaint in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, and “seeks permanent injunctions, disgorgement, prejudgment interest, and civil penalties against each defendant, as well as a penny stock bar against Hrvatin.” Investigations are still ongoing.

Twitter could get monetization options: tips, subscriptions, more – Dexerto
Twitter could get monetization options: tips, subscriptions, more PixabayTwitter is exploring ways to monetize their social platform, as the company wants to expand their revenue stream with new features or subscription options for the site. According to a Bloomberg report, Twitter Inc. has been wanting to grow the ways it makes money to not be so reliant on advertising. Ideas have been floating for years in the company about ways to integrate premium features and the like. Though these products aren’t intended to hit the social media site in 2021, more discussions at Twitter are reportedly taking place about the need to expand different options to generate money. Some of the features that have been talked about range from fees to the Tweetdeck business suite, some kind of subscription, and even ‘tips’ to support people creators, according to ideas on user surveys. The ‘tips’ would be a way for people to follow exclusive content, with Twitter taking a piece from the transaction. There are a ton of features that Twitter users have been advocating to get for years. Everything from an edit button, to more privacy functions, and more. Last year, tech reporter Andrew Roth showed some survey options that also included an “undo send, special badges for profiles and advanced analytics” to gauge people’s interest in possible features. The idea of a service that lets people block ads for a monthly fee also appeared on that survey. This has been something that’s also been talked about before, but has yet to be incorporated. One of the easiest integrations could be the ad-free viewing for Twitter users. This would be something that would be of interest to the site’s large mobile user base. After CEO Jack Dorsey confirmed Twitter is exploring a subscription model, the company is conducting user surveys on what type of features they’d like to see in such a service. Undo send, special badges for profiles and advanced analytics are among the features being considered. pic.twitter.com/hL6T8sdI0s — Andrew Roth+ (@RothsReviews) July 31, 2020 Revenue Product Lead, Bruce Falck, said that they would also consider “unique features and enhanced opportunities for content creation, discovery, and engagement.” It’s unclear what those possible features might be, though it could be of interest for people who have built large audiences on the platforms. As Twitter looks to diversify how they bring in revenue, it will be interesting to see how they’ll try to attract new business out of the people currently using their site.

Twitter criticized for ‘copying’ TikTok’s For You Page with new video feature – Dexerto
Twitter criticized for ‘copying’ TikTok’s For You Page with new video feature Unsplash: Alexander ShatovTwitter users have reported a new ‘For You’ video feature on the app, but some have criticized the tab for being too similar to TikTok’s own For You Page. Short-form video platform TikTok has risen to be one of the most popular social media platforms in the world within the space of a few years, and the app now has millions of daily users who are constantly uploading and interacting with content. It has become so popular that other apps have taken inspiration from its vertical scrolling algorithm-based video feed, such as Instagram with its TikTok-inspired ‘Reels’ feature. In February and March, Twitter users began reporting that they had received access to a ‘For You’ feature that seems to be inspired by TikTok’s For You Page. Click here if TikTok doesn’t load The feature allows you to scroll through videos just like TikTok, and some have even noted that the layout of the comment section is similar. Currently, it appears as though not everyone has access to the feature, but it is unclear whether or not Twitter plans to roll the feature out to more users in the future. In December 2021, they revealed that they would be testing the feature in certain countries, and it seems as though more people are getting access. *checks Explore tab* If it’s looking different, then you’re in our latest test: a new Explore experience to help you discover the best content that’s trending. Why in the flying fuck does my Twitter have a for you page pic.twitter.com/xTPhd4EEIJ — dan 🫶🏼 coup de grâce era (@dantheestan) March 17, 2022 “Twitter has a For You Page? Not every app has to be TikTok,” one user wrote, another saying: “Why the hell is there a For You Page on Twitter?” Another described it as a “full-on TikTok copy.” It’s not yet clear how long this feature will be around for, or how many users will have access to it in the future, but we’ll have to wait and see whether it joins the ranks of defunct features like Fleets.

Twitter CEO announces Elon Musk won’t join board despite $3 billion investment – Dexerto
Twitter CEO announces Elon Musk won’t join board despite $3 billion investment Twitter / Wikimedia CommonsLess than a week after Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal announced Elon Musk was joining the board following a $3 billion investment in the company, he revealed Musk had changed his mind. On April 5, Musk bought 73.5 million shares in Twitter, estimated to be worth around $3 billion, making him the largest shareholder in the company. Shortly after, he announced plans to join the board and vowed to make some big changes, like adding an edit button. Though just when it looked like things were moving forward, Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal has now revealed Musk reversed his decision. However, they will still “remain open to his input” as the largest shareholder. “Elon Musk has decided not to join our board,” said Agrawal in an April 10 announcement. “The Board and I had many discussions about Elon joining the board and with Elon directly. We were excited to collaborate and clear about the risks. “We also believed that having Elon as a fiduciary of the company where he, like all board members, has to act in the best interests of the company and all our shareholders, was the best path forward. The board offered him a seat.” However, after announcing he would be appointed to the board following a background check and formal acceptance that was expected to be completed on April 9, Musk informed Agrawal he no longer wanted to join. “I believe this is for the best,” added Agrawal. “We have and will always value input from our shareholders whether they are on our board or not. Elon is our biggest shareholder, and we will remain open to his input.” Elon has decided not to join our board. I sent a brief note to the company, sharing with you all here. pic.twitter.com/lfrXACavvk — Parag Agrawal (@paraga) April 11, 2022 In typical Elon Musk fashion, the enigmatic billionaire reacted to the news by posting a laughing emoji on Twitter, leading some to believe he wasn’t serious about becoming a board member of the platform in the first place. Either way, it doesn’t change the fact that Musk’s investment in Twitter is very real, and as Agrawal said, the company will still be open to his input, as they are with all shareholders, regardless of whether he’s on the board.

As Twitter descends into chaos, VTubers question social media future – Dexerto
As Twitter descends into chaos, VTubers question social media future Unsplash / TwitterTwitter has had a tumultuous first few weeks under Elon Musk. From mass firings to Twitter Blue’s controversial implementation, the future is uncertain. For VTubers who have made the platform their home since the beginning it’s a very worrying sign — but it’s not all doom and gloom. Twitter is the main social media platform for VTubers. While creators may stream on Twitch, YouTube, Bilibili, and other various sites, they all unite on Twitter to share more personal messages and thoughts in the “public square”. “There’s no site quite like it that becomes a central hub, mixing pot, and versatile medium for content creation,” VTuber artist ‘Keyokku’ told Dexerto. “Imagine any other platform like Pixiv or DeviantArt, there would be nothing to post in between your long art process. Instagram or TikTok has to be a well curated video format that artists can’t often do. Or communication-focused platforms like Discord where no one will stumble across you randomly.” However, that public square is potentially at threat following the purchase of Twitter by Elon Musk. The $44 billion deal has given the Tesla and SpaceX CEO the keys to one of the largest social media platforms, and the first weeks under his reign have been tumultuous, to say the least. Immediately following the deal, Musk pushed to give verification to all via Twitter Blue. The subscription service, which once offered ad-free viewing and various other perks, would become the only way to get the coveted blue checkmark verification (it has since been shelved for the time being). That led to a slew of issues as users took advantage of the lack of moderation to impersonate big brands and names, as well as devaluing previously verified accounts. “As a content creator I feel like [Musk is] doing us a disservice by not offering a secondary way to measure credibility like all the other platforms, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, [and] Twitch,” Cloud9 VTuber Vienna, who was verified before Blue’s implementation, said on Twitter. “I used to get accused of pretending to be in my organization or being a fan. Verification for the last year or so curbed that for me significantly, but I now no longer have a way to display legitimacy.” For many content creators, that wasn’t the biggest concern though. Musk had bluntly stated users should pay up if they wanted their posts to be more visible in replies and search as the algorithm would change to be heavily weighted to verified users. “Trolls and bots” would be relegated to the bottom of results — on the assumption everyone had the $8 a month to buy Twitter Blue. It led to abject panic within the VTuber community before its implementation, and then total despair afterwards. When it soft launched on iOS for users in select countries, there was immediate concern. Would posts now be relegated out of the algorithm? Would VTubers have to pay up to stay visible on Twitter? What if you didn’t live in one of the few countries offering it? Some VTubers did end up coughing up the $8 a month for various reasons. One was popular indie ‘Senz’, who didn’t beat around the bush with their reasoning: “I honestly just wanted to see if I’d get the check mark,” he laughed. “I canceled my subscription immediately anyway, though I will say the features that came with it were pretty cool.” Others were more scared about missing out on the visibility the algorithm changes could have invoked. “I was going to wait and see how it affects the algorithm,” Keyokku said, although they never bit the bullet in buying the subscription. “We were anxious it would prioritize verified posts but it also didn’t say anything about the main home timeline. My concern was also with the impersonation and deterioration of quality across the platform as anyone can abuse these powers. and we saw that happen.” Twitter Blue’s poor implementation is only one subset of problems that has VTubers looking elsewhere for their future though. Many who spoke to Dexerto cited other forms of mismanagement at the company since Musk’s acquisition at the end of October. The mass firing of employees, the reduction in moderation, user safety and privacy taking a back seat to profits. While Twitter Blue is the scapegoat for now, the trust is eroding fast. “I don’t mind them taking [Twitter Blue] away, but I would say don’t trust Twitter right now because they are under new ownership and everything is a bit erratic at the moment,” Senz said. “We are already seeing the decay and entropy of Twitter,” Keyokku added. “According to devs, Twitter will literally go down in a week’s time until it is unusable. The platform along with my livelihood is disappearing due to one person’s hubris.” This poses the question though: where can these online communities rebuild? If existing platforms don’t meet the needs, there has to be compromises made, or new homes built. That’s led to the rise of Mastodon, a platform which poses itself as a decentralized Twitter-like platform. While it launched in 2016, the VTuber community was one of the first adopters following Musk’s acquisition. There’s various communities built onto the platform — which isn’t so much a singular site, rather an interconnected web of instances within a ‘federation’ which can freely communicate with one another. vt.social is the biggest of such spaces on Mastodon for VTubers. Since the very-public crash of Twitter Blue, admins ‘Luna’ and ‘Asahi Lina’ from the nullptr::live cooperative set out on making a space for virtual content creators on Mastodon. They are now handling hundreds of requests to join the space every day as more users diversify their social media presence. “The same day Musk took office we were already playing with the idea of starting our own Mastodon instance,” Luna told Dexerto. Luna was grim on Twitter’s future, saying it won’t last “for long with how Elon [Musk] is mismanaging it. “A lot of people who knew what they were doing are no longer at the company, and it’s up to engineers who don’t have the deep knowledge of the systems to put out the fires. “Whoever’s left are forced to work their asses off, even to the point of sleeping at the office while Elon Musk tweets whatever toilet thought he has which can rapidly change product direction at any moment.” Mastodon is not a perfect Twitter replacement, Luna and its users, which include Keyokku, admit. There are definite upsides to the platform that negate some of the issues Twitter are now facing, but it’s not without the flaws that come with something being decentralized. “The platforms have more stability as one company going down won’t knock out the entire network,” Luna said, detailing the positives. “The platforms have varying degrees of user control when it comes to determining what a user wants and doesn’t want to see. “[However] Federation means that some servers are made by people who explicitly want to harass others,” they continued. “We have tools to deal with them, but how and what is dealt with very much depends on the host of your server. “A lot of ‘fediverse’ servers are not made for discoverability, which means we have to pick up that issue ourselves and hopefully get it contributed back upstream.” It’s also small fry compared to what Twitter and its hundreds of millions of monthly users can offer. The vt.social Mastodon site only has a few hundred users at the time of publishing, and the site as a whole has 1.5 million monthly users. That’s decent, but nothing close to Twitter. The reach of Twitter is undeniable, and content creators might harm themselves by jumping from one site to another full-throat. “I don’t know if it can replace Twitter and build such reach and influence, but it does have its perks,” Keyokku said. “It does feel like a closer knit community because of the instances and there’s no algorithm to understand which is a weird experience. I believe there is a future, and familiar faces are popping up as I continue to advocate for it.” However all agree the chaos of Twitter since Elon Musk’s acquisition has highlighted the importance of not relying on a sole site too much. Mastodon isn’t the only social media platform users are trying to establish a presence on: Inkblot has become a favorite for artists, especially since DeviantArt announced their new AI art generator. Tumblr has seen a resurgence. TikTok still exists, and legacy platforms like Facebook and Instagram could be potential new homes. There is uncertainty ahead, and Twitter may end up stabilizing. But with the water rushing in, many aren’t taking chances and are looking at diversifying their reach in case it all hits the fan. “I already had plans on diversifying and was slowly working on it: I’ve had Twitch, Pixiv, Patreon, Discord brewing for ages, but I thought I had more time,” Keyokku said. “It’s almost like mortality — just thinking there’s always more time and never thinking it could be the next day you suddenly can lose so much. “I think content creators should try and grow an audience on every platform at once,” Senz added. “It raises your chances of being noticed and growing on all, which usually ends up with them being intermixed and sharing numbers, and having backup media where if one becomes irrelevant you have those others there for you as a safety net.”

Twitter Blue verification already being abused as users impersonate big names – Dexerto
Twitter Blue verification already being abused as users impersonate big names Twitter / UnsplashTwitter has changed its verification policy, allowing any account which signs up to Twitter Blue for the updated price to receive the coveted checkmark. However, some users are abusing it to impersonate big companies like Nintendo and Valve, and even sports stars like LeBron James. One of Elon Musk’s big propositions after buying Twitter for $44 billion was to rid the social media platform of bots and open up verification to all humans. Enter the new Twitter Blue, enveloping the verification process into a paid purchase of $8 a month. A subscription to Twitter’s premium service once offered exclusive features as well as some early access, but now it’s a core tenet of the verification process. Anyone can sign up for Twitter Blue and receive the blue checkmark next to their name. If you open up a user’s profile it’ll distinguish whether it was handed out before November to a “notable” individual or group, or just someone splashing some cash. However because it looks the exact same, some users are already abusing the new verification system to impersonate big brands and names. In the gaming space, Nintendo and Valve have both been targeted. A fake ‘nlntendoofus’ (note the L) account tweeted out a picture of Mario flipping the finger, with branding completely identical to the real Nintendo of America account. Similarly, the account ‘valvesotfware’ (note the misspelling of software) tweeted out a fake announcement of a Ricochet sequel, one of Valve’s earlier titles released in 2000. It’s not just brand accounts being targeted though. People have swooped up similar-looking handles to sports stars like LeBron James, using it to tweet out a trade request from the Lakers. Of course, it was fake. Twitter has banned the accounts mentioned, and new CEO Elon Musk, who isn’t immune to these impersonators, has vowed anyone impersonating anyone of note with Twitter Blue will be permanently suspended. The platform is yet to revert the change as more copycats crop up. Musk added: “Please note that Twitter will do lots of dumb things in coming months. We will keep what works & change what doesn’t.” The rollout of Twitter Blue’s verification add-on is only available in specific countries, and only for iOS users at the time of publishing. A global rollout will take place over the coming weeks.
