Twitch Streamers Discover fans Stalking them through Discord Twitch Streamers DisguisedToast and xChocobars discovered fan-run Discord channels that stalked their every move. DisguisedToast shared the findings on his Twitch chat. “A Discord has recently been brought to my attention and I’m going to be as clear as I can. This is way over the line,” started Toast. He later described what went on in the Discord, including tracking “each and every one of our movements, including our family members.” Read More: League of Legends Streamers Tyler1 and Imaqtpie Face Off in Showmatch at NA LCS Playoffs – Highlights – xChocobars, who frequently streams with DisguisedToast, was also being stalked in the Discord. The stalkers were known and longtime members of Toast and xChocobars communities, even including a chat mod from Toast’s Twitch. There are multiple Discords according to DisguisedToast and not all of them have been discovered. The streamers gave those involved in other Discords an opportunity to apologize and come forward after the discovery of the first, but it did not happen. “I haven’t gone through the entire list yet as I am aware of multiple Discords at this stage,” said Toast, who may involve the police to find the rest of the stalkers. xChocobars commented on how the stalking has affected her life, “I can’t sleep. I’m just so sad and disappointed. I trusted them so much… they updated our every move.” DisguisedToast is a member of OfflineTV, a house featuring multiple streamers playing games and creating IRL content. • Twitch streamers demand more sub revenue as rival platforms increase rates – Dexerto

Twitch streamers demand more sub revenue as rival platforms increase rates Pexels/TwitchTwitch streamers unhappy with the platform offering them significantly less subscription revenue than rival sites, demanding some serious changes. As the streaming wars heat up, YouTube and Facebook Gaming are looking to gain steam and steal some of Twitch’s top talent. While YouTube has done this by acquiring top streamers such as TimTheTatman and Dr Lupo directly, Facebook has begun offering its streamers a 100% revenue cut for subscriptions. Now, Twitch streamers want the Amazon-owned site to step up and begin offering a better cut to content creators instead of the 50% they get currently. Streamers want major sub revenue changes on Twitch On November 3, a tweet by full-time streamer DEZirableGamer began making rounds online, calling for Twitch to institute some sweeping updates. “Only making 50% revenue from subs for those that barely make enough for a payout let alone full-time streamers trying to pay bills is CRAZY,” she wrote. “It’s time for a change.” She went on to add that while Twitch doesn’t “owe” streamers more money, she felt that the hard work she and others put in warranted asking for better pay. Clarification: A) Twitch doesn’t owe streamers more money “just because” B) You shouldn’t go full time w/o consistant income & preferably multiple income sources. There is NOTHING wrong with wanting/negotiating better pay based on a company’s success & your hard work. — ✨Desirae✨ (@_ItsDesirae) November 4, 2021 Debate was sparked in the comments, with some suggesting she take her talents to Facebook or YouTube for a better split, and others sided with her. “They can afford to pay streamers more, they choose not to because they have a monopoly,” Overwatch streamer and Twitch partner Heilune wrote. “Eventually they will have to change, not because they care, but because Youtube’s growth is pressuring them to.” why are people licking twitch’s boots in these comments lmao. they can afford to pay streamers more, they choose not to bc they have a monopoly. eventually they will have to change, not bc they care, but bc youtubes growth is pressuring them to. — heilune (@heilune) November 4, 2021 “The revenue from ad traffic and how many streamers are on this platform should be enough to give more to affiliates,” Guilty Esports founder GE Carlos said in agreement. I 100% agree with this. The revenue from ad traffic and how many streamers are on this platform should be enough to give more to affiliates. I also do agree that you should NOT go full time until you are ready and can handle possibly the inconsistency of revenue coming in — GE Carlos 🇨🇺 (@GuiltyCEO) November 4, 2021 Others explained how they encourage viewers to use means other than subs to support them. “I’ve already told everyone that does sub to me to go to Patreon… I mirrored the $ and everything,” another streamer replied. “I added up how much Twitch took from me the whole year I was on it and… It made me sick.” Dude don’t even get me started lol I’ve been blind to it for way too long snd I do this full time. ESPECIALLY with how much work goes into this. 50% is just ridiculous — ✨Desirae✨ (@_ItsDesirae) November 4, 2021 There’s no telling on if Twitch has any plans to increase streamers’ sub income, but if YouTube and Facebook can keep up the pressure, anything is possible.

  • Twitch streamers could have payouts affected by new EU tax law – Dexerto

Twitch streamers could have payouts affected by new EU tax law Twitch/UnsplashNew EU tax laws could create some headaches for Twitch streamers when it comes to payouts, especially if they don’t tick off a new box that has popped up on the streaming platform. As Twitch has become a genuine way for streamers to make money, some have managed to strike it rich and make a career from it. Others do it as a side hustle to make some money on top of their actual job. It isn’t all sunshine and rainbows though. If you make it big, Twitch naturally takes a cut of your subscriptions and sponsorships. There has been plenty of controversy about that. There are also tax considerations to be had, particularly for non-US streamers, and that’s before you get into money made from donations. In recent months, streamers in Turkey and the Middle East have been affected by payout issues, prompting a few to turn away from Twitch for a period of time. Others have also been banned for tax evasion. Now, streamers in Europe are likely to be affected if they don’t complete a simple task on their channel. EU streamers could be demonetized for not completing new Twitch task Streamers in Europe will now have to complete a DAC7 Interview in the Twitch Creator Dashboard, answering questions about their tax status and other such income-related queries. This is because of the new DAC7 tax law that now affects Twitch as they have to report “information regarding earnings generated by users.” So, unless you’re making money on Twitch, you don’t have to worry about it. Not completing the interview will lead to payouts being blocked and channels being demonetized and removed from the Partner/Affiliate programs. So, it’s pretty imperative that streamers sort it out. It only affects those in the European Union, so streamers from other regions – including the UK – won’t have the requirement to complete the interview. The deadline to complete it has not been made public by Twitch and has only been shared with streamers. Though, it’ll likely be pretty soon.

  • Twitch streamers are creating a sitcom live with viewers in control of the chaos – Dexerto

Twitch streamers are creating a sitcom live with viewers in control of the chaos Twitch: EverythingNowShowA comedy troupe on Twitch has created a sitcom directed by and co-written with their viewer’s input for maximum madness. The EverythingNowShow has been hard at work rewriting the rules of what you can do on Twitch. Walking firmly in the footsteps of Jerma985, who paved the way with his insane Sim’s recreation ‘The DollHouse’ the small streaming group are constantly playing with what it means to stream on a ‘live interactive platform’. Following on from the success of the Uber Simulator just a month ago, EverythingNowShow has returned to write a sitcom with chat. Watching is a chaotic experience to say the least. The show runs with Twitch’s innate interactive capability, making use of polls and soundbites to influence the direction the story travels in. Additionally, viewers can submit images through Discord or Twitter to impact the on-screen antics. Running with the loose premise of a character stuck in their mundane office job as they ran through a day of interviews, viewers were able to feed the lead snacks or fire anyone they wanted to. Quickly devolving into the floor-level humor we should’ve expected from the start, viewers could pay Bits to interrupt the show with ‘Premium’ or ‘Deluxe’ farts. There is an interactive comedy sitcom on Twitch where chat decides on the story pic.twitter.com/AengIatfjh — Dexerto (@Dexerto) May 24, 2022 Viewers were quick to express their opinion with strong positivity for the idea. One tweet reading: “Kudos to these dudes going outside the box. Streamers overall have become nothing but a self-budgeting Jersey Shore/Reality show. These dudes took the SNL/Mad TV/All That approach. Very nice.” With users like EverythingNowShow, Jerma985, and CodeMiko constantly tearing up the rules of what ‘can’ be done with a livestream, we’re excited to see how these experiments will change and develop over time.

  • Twitch streamers concerned as TwitchCon Paris still to go ahead amid France riots – Dexerto

Twitch streamers concerned as TwitchCon Paris still to go ahead amid France riots TwitchTwitch streamers are concerned for their safety as TwitchCon Paris is still set to go ahead despite ongoing riots across France. Annually, Twitch hosts two events for their live-streaming community, allowing fans and content creators to hang out and connect all in one place, with one event typically held in Europe and another in the United States. The first TwitchCon event of 2023 is set to take place in Paris at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles from July 7 to July 9. Although, attendees are concerned for their safety amid the ongoing protests and riots which have taken place across the country since June 27, following the tragic death of a 17-year-old boy, who was fatally shot by police during a traffic stop. Regardless, Twitch still intends on still going ahead with the event. “We are closely monitoring the protests taking place in and around Paris. The safety and security of our community and staff are always, and will continue to be our top priority,” they said in a July 1 statement. “At this time there is no anticipated impact to TwitchCon Paris. The venue is not near the epicenter of the protests, or any of the areas that have seen protest activity, and has continued to operate business as usual.” They added: “We are getting regular updates from the ground and will communicate any changes to our TwitchCon plans. We look forward to seeing you soon, The TwitchCon Team.” While many of the riots and protests in Paris are taking place on the opposite side of the city from the venue, many are still concerned with the decision. Kick co-founder Trainwrecks was one of many to put the company on blast, claiming they’re unwilling to cancel the event so they don’t lose money. “Translation: we don’t want to cancel and lose money or refund and lose money, so we’ll go through with it and hope you cancel and lose money,” he wrote. Others urged those intending to attend the event to stay away for their own safety. “I am asking those that are going to stay away from Paris for this Twitchcon,” said one. “Your safety and life are way more important than an event. Please do the right thing for yourself, there is always next time.” As it stands TwitchCon Paris will go ahead and normal next weekend from July 7 to July 9. If anything changes we’ll make sure to keep you updated right here on Dexerto.

  • Twitch streamer’s chat destroys his stove with remote-controlled robot – Dexerto

Twitch streamer’s chat destroys his stove with remote-controlled robot X.com: uwu_to_owoA Twitch streamer’s chat ended up destroying his stove after a remote-controlled robot slammed a wok down on one of the burners so hard that it broke. Ever heard of Twitch Plays Pokemon? This social experiment saw over one million participants gather together on Twitch to control a character in Nintendo’s Pokemon red, typing out directions in the chat to move the game along. Since then, other similar events have happened across many streaming platforms where the chat controls the outcome of the broadcast (including, but not limited to, the NPC TikToker trend we’ve seen pop up this year). Now, Twitch streamer and VTuber ‘uwu_to_owo’ has created yet another wild experiment for his chat to carry out… this time, in an attempt to make fried rice. Twitch streamer’s chat manages to destroy his stovetop A self-proclaimed ‘Mad Scientist,’ uwu_to_owo crafted a remote controlled, robotic arm that was capable of three tasks: Tossing a wok, stirring the wok, and adding seasoning to said wok. Viewers could type out three commands in the chat to make these actions happen, with the end goal being to cook a pan of fried rice. Unfortunately, things didn’t up going as planned (shocker). The wok-toss command ended up slamming the kitchenware down so hard on the burner that any and all ingredients inside it were thrown around the kitchen. That’s not the worst part of it, though. The wok-slamming action ended up actually breaking the burner itself, prompting a hilarious and shocked reaction from the streamer, who could only ask his chat: “How in the hell?” Although the experiment was certainly an interesting one, uwu_to_owo admitted that it was “never gonna work” — but his ‘rice yeeter’ definitely gave the internet a good laugh. This is far from the wildest thing a Twitch streamer’s chat has accomplished during a broadcast, though. In June, Erobb’s chat managed to shut down a game he was playing for a sponsored stream by abusing his channel rewards system.

  • Twitch streamer’s chat donates over $1000 to tip waitress during restaurant stream – Dexerto

Twitch streamer’s chat donates over $1000 to tip waitress during restaurant stream Twitter, AmericanDadFrom wacky skits to a gigantic Pokémon card collection, popular streamer ‘AmericanDad’ constantly finds a way to stand out from the crowd. Indiana-based Twitch streamer AmericanDad has found his niche in content creation by the way of humorous skits that he shares on social media, finding hilarious ways to end viewer arguments, and interacting with his fans on Twitter. When he decided to live-stream his dinner at a local restaurant, his community assumed it would be a semi-normal broadcast. However, when he told his chat that any donation made during would be given to his waitress as a tip, his community decided to make her day. AmericanDad rasies money During his September 5 IRL stream, in which the long-haired streamer broadcasted his dinner outing, AmericanDad explained to his chat how they were going to make someone’s day much better. “I’m getting nervous. I don’t want her to faint or pass out… I want her to be stoked like us,” the streamer told his chat as the donations kept coming in. After showing chat that they had raised $1,240 to give to the waitress, he called her over to his table to explain what was happening. “There’s over 500 people watching,” he explained. “We’re gonna have you pick a number between one and ten, if you choose right, we’re gonna give you a good tip.” After picking number seven, she was asked what she thought about a $1,240 tip – prompting her to blurt out, “Thank you so much!!” https://twitter.com/AmericanDadLive/status/1435351875004604420?s=20 While AmericanDad may have posted the clip of the encounter a few days late, he made sure his community on Twitter knew right after it happened. Our live stream just tipped our waitress $1240. Life is so sick. I love you guys. — AmericanDad (@AmericanDadLive) September 6, 2021 “Our live stream just tipped our waitress $1240. Life is so sick. I love you guys,” the streamer stated in his tweet. Shortly after posting his original tweet, it seemed the waitress had found him. hiii i was your server tonight and i just want to thank you guys 🥺🥺 this means the world to me ! ❤️❤️ — jenni (@__jenninicole) September 6, 2021 The waitress seemed to be super happy with her high-value tip, based on her understandably peppy reply. While this may be the first time AmericanDad has done something of this caliber, judging by his excitement in the video, we may see him do this again soon.

  • Twitch streamers call for action after getting DMCA’d for IRL streaming near 2020 Olympics – Dexerto

Twitch streamers call for action after getting DMCA’d for IRL streaming near 2020 Olympics Twitch / International Olympic CommitteeAfter getting postponed last year, the 2020 Olympics is finally underway in Tokyo, Japan — but several Twitch streamers claim they’ve been sent DMCA’s by the IOC after streaming near Olympic venues. The highly-anticipated 2020 Olympics is taking place in Tokyo, taking up a number of athletic venues in the massive capital city of Japan. While the hype is at an all-time high, not everyone is taking part in the excitement — particularly, IRL streamers, who are seemingly risking potential bans for broadcasting anywhere near the historic athletic competition. On July 23, partnered IRL Twitch streamer ‘Kuri’ shared a screenshot of a DMCA notice that one of their friends had received after allegedly streaming in public areas near the Olympics. https://twitter.com/KuriTwitch/status/1418561381981245451?s=20 Kuri claimed that two of their friends had been hit with DMCA’s from the IOC — one, for streaming a flyover of jets in a public park, while another was streaming from outside an Olympic stadium. Kuri then alleged that the International Olympic Committee is “abusing DMCA on Twitch” and claimed that “Twitch Support is doing nothing to stop it.” And I had a bad signal and had a black screen most of the time🤣 Maybe my voice was too attractive🤔— MK (@miki_Japan_book) July 23, 2021 They then named yet another friend that had received a ban for streaming in a public park, adding that broadcasters “can’t even stream the sky now.” The streamer who had broadcasted in the park claimed that she had also experienced bad signal and had a black screen most of the time,” and uploaded a clip of what she had streamed to her Twitter account, asking, “Where is the Olympic [logo]?” While this isn’t the first time Twitch has been flooded with DMCA concerns, the platform recently reversed its decision to make DMCA’s permanent strikes against creators, instead updating to a “timed strike” system similar to that of YouTube. Luckily, this means that any streamers who get hit with DMCA’s due to the Olympics won’t have to worry about it permanently blackening their records — but it’s still resulting in frustration from the broadcasters involved, all the same.

  • Twitch streamers can technically stream with Dr Disrespect again after rule change – Dexerto

Twitch streamers can technically stream with Dr Disrespect again after rule change YouTube/DrDisrespectTwitch streamers can now technically stream alongside Dr Disrespect after the company changed the rules regarding partners being able to stream on other platforms. In June 2020, streaming star Dr Disrespect was unexpectedly banned from Twitch permanently. This meant friends of the creator who streamed on the platform could no longer play games with Doc. Before he went to YouTube, TimTheTatman even mentioned that he wouldn’t be able to join Doc in a game offline in case he was streaming on YouTube, which would violate Tim’s partner contract with Twitch. This was true until August 23, when Twitch revealed a series of changes to the exclusivity section of the partner contract, which means that more creators can now technically stream with Dr Disrespect. Twitch Partners can stream with Dr Disrespect After Doc was banned from Twitch, broadcasting on the platform with him appearing on your stream put your channel in danger, as the community guidelines state that it is prohibited to use your channel to knowingly feature a suspended user. “In addition, it is prohibited to use your channel to knowingly feature or advertise a suspended user. We understand that there may be instances where suspended users may appear on your stream due to circumstances beyond your control, such as through third-party gaming tournaments, but we expect that you make a good faith effort to remove them from your broadcast, mute them, or otherwise limit their interactions with your stream,” it reads. During their announcement on August 23, Twitch revealed that partners on the platform will be able to simultaneously stream on TikTok and Instagram Live, allowing them to expand their reach throughout the internet. On top of that, Twitch is now allowing streamers who are partnered on the platform to broadcast on other platforms like YouTube or Facebook Gaming, albeit not at the same time. For example, this means creators like NICKMERCS would technically have the ability to end their stream on Twitch, fire up a broadcast on YouTube, and join Dr Disrespect in a game of Apex Legends if he wanted to. That is assuming that a Twitch partner with a following the size of Nick’s doesn’t have an exclusivity clause built into their specific contract. Either way, it will be interesting to see what kind of squads are formed in the near future, as Doc is already looking for new streamers to play with. We’ve reached out to Twitch for further comment and will update if that becomes available.

  • Twitch streamers brawl at Gamescom over gambling streams – Dexerto

Twitch streamers brawl at Gamescom over gambling streams Three partnered Twitch streamers, Tanzverbot, Orangemorgange, and Scurrows, were involved in a physical scuffle while attending Gamescom, reportedly over gambling content on the streaming platform. The streamers had been feuding in the weeks building up to the event, with Tanzverbot criticizing both Scurrows and Orangemorange for their gambling streams on the platform. He has accused these streamers of influencing their young audience into the pitfalls of gambling, for the sake of their own monetary gain through sponsorships. The feud came to physical blows at Gamescom however, with Orangemorange stating after the fight that Tanzverbot “became visibly aggressive and physically came at me. As a result, I fought back by throwing a plastic cup in his direction and pushing towards him. I hit back, but without hitting. In retrospect, of course, this annoys me, but at the end of the day, it was my right to defend myself.” A fourth streamer, quiteLola, attempted to intervene and was caught up in the scuffle, and at one point falling to the ground. She later confirmed on Twitter that she was “fine” and thanked people for their messages. Tanzverbot called Scurrows a “loser”, and said he hid behind his “MMA fighter friends.” In response, Scurrows tweeted sarcastically, “We are casino streamers. Of course we’re guilty, huh? It is obvious! As if Tanzverbot did nothing! Of course, I, with 60kg, had the intention to start a fight. And Tanzban wanted to de-escalate, but we overdid it.” At the time of writing, there has been no response from Twitch itself, with all of the partnered streamers’ accounts intact. Some fans have speculated that bans will be handed out to those involved, although there is little precedent on Twitch of instances of physical confrontation between partners. The feud is still ongoing, with Scurrows promising a further response on his YouTube channel in the coming days.

  • Twitch streamers burn steak and accidentally get the fire department to show up – Dexerto

Twitch streamers burn steak and accidentally get the fire department to show up Twitch: TrymacsGerman Twitch streamer Trymacs captured the moment the fire department showed up at his doorstep after a steak was mishandled in the streamer’s kitchen. Tripping the smoke detector by accident is the worst nightmare of anyone that has one installed in their apartment, and for Twitch streamer Trymacs, it happened in front of thousands of live viewers. The German streamer was doing a self-imposed “no food challenge” where he and his streamer friends tried going one week without eating anything. To take the challenge to a next level, Trymacs invited colleagues and friends to his penthouse apartment so they could cook food for themselves there and tempt the streamers to cave in and give up on the challenge. One of them decided to make himself a juicy steak but he might have underestimated how hot the pan was, as the steak almost immediately started burning, tripping one of the smoke detectors and triggering the fire brigade to show up within 15 minutes. Streamers make fire department show up because of burnt steak Trymacs and his friends stepped out to the balcony because smoke quickly filled the apartment, when getting some fresh air they captured the fire brigade and ambulance making their way towards them. According to a viewer of Trymacs, he “had to pay 8000 Euros” for his friend’s charred steak. The entire VOD from March 17 can be seen on the streamer’s Twitch page. Despite the brigade showing up, the stream went on for another 17 hours, so the situation was resolved by the streamer. Thankfully since there was no fire, only a lot of smoke, nobody was hurt in the process. Live streaming and fire brigades seem to go hand in hand as last year another streamer almost burned down her kitchen during a subathon.

Twitch streamers beg for help after platform reportedly blocks payment withdrawals TwitchA number of Twitch streamers from the Middle East have allegedly been unable to cash out from the site and have gotten similar responses when they tried to contact support. On February 19, the hashtag #Twitch_arab_streamers started trending on Twitter, with Middle Eastern streamers all sharing one common issue: allegedly not being able to collect payment from the site. • Twitch artist and girlfriend banned for bullying fellow art streamer to tears – Dexerto

Twitch artist and girlfriend banned for bullying fellow art streamer to tears DreamNekoTV Twitter / Neko TwitchTwitch streamer and digital artist Kuno found himself in hot water after he and his girlfriend hurled insults toward a fellow artist, mocking her art and calling her “autistic” in a clip that quickly went viral. Being a Twitch streamer means everything you say while live is in the public eye, so incidents you think might not be a big deal could ‘blow up’, as was the case with Kuno on his stream from May 1. Kuno and his girlfriend Hana were looking at various pictures of art designed by Neko, another Twitch streamer who specializes in art, making fun of it the whole time. The two were browsing through Neko’s Twitter account, and had little positive to say, while their viewers went along with it, mentioned how she has 4,000 followers. “It’s so bad, none of it is good,” Hana said. “My sister could draw better than this when she was 5-years-old.” It didn’t end there, however, as Kuno jumped in with some comments of his own. “Hold up, you know she’s powerful though,” he said. “Look how broken she is.” To this point, their comments could be spun as just some very harsh criticism, but Hana also went on to suggest that Neko could be autistic. “Why do people care about her,” she asked. “Maybe she’s autistic. Maybe people feel really bad for her, maybe something’s wrong with her,” before continuing to call the art trash. “It literally looks like MS Paint,” she said. “Her art is trash, like it’s not art. It just makes me upset that some trash, I don’t even want to call her an artist, some piece of trash who like learned how to use MS Paint can have more followers and attention and love than my Kuno just because she has a vagina instead of a fuckin’ dick.” Community comes to support of Neko In the above clip, you can see Neko is just sitting at around 4,000 followers, but that number has since skyrocketed after the clip went viral. Her Twitter page now shows her sitting at over 18,000 followers, more than quadrupling her followers since all this went down. Her Twitch account has more than 26,000 followers too, nearly tripling the number on Kuno’s stream. She sent out a tweet thanking everybody who came to her side and supported her: “I really hope this can bring an awareness and we at least learn something from it,” she wrote. I am slowly responding to ALL of warm and encouraging DMs. I am sorry if I don’t respond fast. Thank you @bananabreaa and everyone who stood up for me and gave me so much support. I really hope this can bring an awareness and we have at least learn something from it. — ネコ (@DreamNekoTV) May 2, 2019 On her stream, she addressed the incident while condemning the actions of both Kuno and Hana. “Artists don’t underestimate someone’s effort,” she said before breaking down in tears. Kuno apologized for what happened Kuno posted a public apology on Twitter regarding the incident by letting everyone know how badly he messed up and said he will follow up with a more in-depth apology later on. “I fucked up today guys,” he wrote. “I let Neko and my community and the entire art community down today, and I’m in the wrong. I assume 100% of the responsibility of what occurred on my stream. I fucked up today guys. I let @DreamNekoTV and my community and the entire art community down today. I’m sorry, and I’m in the wrong. I assume 100% of the responsibility of what occurred on my stream. I will respond with a more in depth apology as soon as possible. — Kuno @ Finals Destination (@artiKun0) May 2, 2019 Unlike Neko, Kuno’s replies were not so supportive, condemning him for his actions. It appears as if Kuno lost a fraction of his Twitch following as his follower goal during the streamer was 9,001 and it shows he made it all the way to 9,143 but is now sitting below that number. However, it’s slowly climbing back up.

  • Twitch streamers banned after broadcasting drug taking in public – Dexerto

Twitch streamers banned after broadcasting drug taking in public Two teenagers were banned from Twitch following a stream in which they took illegal drugs in a public place. While the pair aren’t well known streamers, a clip of their broadcast went viral on sites like LivestreamFails as they filmed themselves imbibing ketamine and marijuana. One was smoking a bong and the other inhaling, allegedly, a bump of ketamine through her nostril. Despite doing this in broad daylight, one of the girls seemed surprised by the attention of some passers-by (who can’t be seen on camera). Laughing, the short-haired teen asked her friend: “Why is there just old people… [unintelligible], what are they looking at? What they looking at, man? I’m just trying to snort some ket!” The youngster’s account was quickly banned after the clip went viral, probably due to Twitch’s stance against using illegal drugs on stream. According to the site’s Community Guidelines, “any activity that may endanger your life or lead to your physical harm” is prohibited on the platform, which includes such offenses as “suicide threats, intentional physical trauma”, and even “illegal use of drugs.” Although some states in America have legalized the recreational and medical use of marijuana, cannabis remains illegal in the United Kingdom – as is ketamine, a substance that is reportedly on the rise among the country’s young citizens. The teens broke Twitch’s Community Guidelines, but it doesn’t look like the banning has put a halt to their streaming activities. As the time of writing, both girls have begun streaming under a new account named ‘zoinkedtv’, where they addressed their ban in a comeback stream titled: “Sometimes, banning happens.” Although Twitch has yet to take action against their new channel, it’s likely only a matter of time before the teens get hit with yet another ban from the platform in wake of their extracurricular activities.

  • Twitch streamer xoAeriel goes viral for “licking” Seattle gum wall – Dexerto

Twitch streamer xoAeriel goes viral for “licking” Seattle gum wall Twitter: ClownWorld_Twitch streamer xoAeriel stunned and ‘disgusted’ many viewers after “licking” the Seattle gum wall, but what really went down? American Twitch streamer xoAeriel rose to fame after kicking off the Twitch hot tub meta as it took over the streaming platform in 2021. Having previously not shied away from controversy, xoAeriel stunned many viewers after heading to Seattle’s infamous gum wall… and licking it. Viewers begged to “unsee” the video — which shows the content creator licking the wall and seemingly sucking on a long piece of gum hanging from a window sill. But what actually happened and did xoAeriel really brave Seattle’s gum wall? Did xoAeriel really lick the Seattle gum wall? Yes, and no. While the footage of xoAeriel licking (and sucking) on Seattle’s gum wall is in fact real, there are some behind-the-scenes secrets to soften the video’s shock factor. Speaking with Dexerto, xoAeriel revealed how the video came about; “It’s my own gum. I chewed over 100 pieces on Twitch Live to get enough gum to cover a large area. I then used gloves to place it on the wall.” “So, it’s still kind of disgusting and I did get really sick from it,” xoAeriel admitted in an Instagram post. “But I didn’t actually lick random people’s gum.” Her fans were evidently relieved by the news, jumping to xoAeriel’s comments to share their thoughts on the controversial video. “Smart and beautiful,” one person said. Another said, “Huh. That’s actually somewhat reasonable and responsible.” However, not all found the new information to be enough to outweigh the “disgusting” act of licking Seattle’s gum wall; “Haha still so gross.” Be sure to check out all the latest entertainment news on our page here.

  • Amouranth and BrookeAB share their “terrifying” experiences with stalkers & harassers – Dexerto

Amouranth and BrookeAB share their “terrifying” experiences with stalkers & harassers YouTube: Amouranth/ Instagram: BrookeabbKaitlyn ‘Amouranth’ Siragusa, Brooke ‘BrookeAB’ Bond, and various other streamers have shared their harrowing experiences with stalkers despite taking extensive measures to protect themselves. Stalking is sadly becoming an increasing and serious problem for content creators, particularly for women. Female stars from across the streaming platforms have shared their horrifying ordeals with obsessed fans. One of the most prolific of which was that of Amouranth, who was left ‘fearing for her life’ after a stranger traveled from Estonia to her home and livestreamed his entire experience. Now, Amouranth has opened up about her dealings with stalkers alongside her fellow streamers DizzyKitten, BrookeAB, and Max Gonzalez. Yet, they also worry that very little can be done to solve the issue. Amouranth claims stalking “comes with the territory” Speaking to The New York Times, Amouranth spoke more about her experiences throughout May-July 2022 with an obsessed fan who sold all of his possessions to find her. “In livestreams, they see into your home, into your bedroom, and it feels very personal with them,” She claimed. “I think that is what contributes to a lot of the stalking: They feel like they know you.” In the lead-up to the terrifying event, Amouranth took a series of measures to protect herself including hiring security guards, instaling security cameras all around her property, and keeping police informed of the stalker’s every move. However, Amouranth is at a loss as to how she could possibly boost up her security. She added: “I don’t know what else to do at this point, besides build a moat with crocodiles.” 100 Thieves streamer BrookeAB, who currently has 1.3 million followers on Twitch, also spoke about her experience dealing with harassers who doxxed her online. She even had to cancel her trip to Coachella after harassers threatened to “set her house on fire.” Whereas, Twitch creator DizzyKitten claimed that one stalker managed to track down her home address after professing his love for her. She subsequently “barricaded” herself in a room with a gun. Twitch have since made numerous pledges to do more to protect streamers from such attacks. However, Brooke believes that ultimately platforms “just don’t have any clue of what to do.” Despite the traumatic events, Amouranth claimed she wouldn’t change her career for the world. She added that, sadly, such experiences come “with the territory” of being a woman online.

  • Twitch streamer with ALS beats the odds by using eye tracker to make content – Dexerto

Twitch streamer with ALS beats the odds by using eye tracker to make content Twitch: yvmhawkingTwitch streamer ‘YvMHawking’ has ALS and cannot use his arms or legs — but he doesn’t let that stop him from creating content, editing videos, and even developing video games by using only his eyes. 32-year-old Ben Gürkan is a Turkish Twitch streamer with over 10,000 followers. He’s also a postgraduate biology student from AIBU who develops games in his spare time. Gürkan has ALS — a neurodegenerative disease that affects nerves in the brain and spinal cord, causing loss of muscle control throughout the body. As a result, he cannot use any of his limbs. How, then, does he stream on Twitch? How does he study? Twitch streamer with ALS uses eye-tracker to play games Gürkan says that he’s able to control his computer by using an eye tracker — and he’s found significant success on Twitch as a result of his efforts. The eye tracker that Gürkan uses is attached to the bottom of his computer monitor. Using infrared rays, the tracker can follow where the streamer looks, allowing him to play video games and interact with viewers using specific eye motions. Gürkan first began experiencing symptoms of ALS when he was 25 years old. Due to the effects of his condition, he found himself spending his days in front of his computer, which prompted him to start streaming. “As you know, my whole day is spent in front of the computer,” he says in the ‘about’ section on his Twitch channel. “I wanted to open a publication while I was dealing with something.” Now, viewers can tune into Gürkan’s streams to see him controlling animated characters in-game using just his eyes while he lays back in bed. He also speaks with fans using a text to speech program, cultivating an active community of supportive fans. Gürkan has managed to overcome the odds and isn’t letting ALS slow him down one bit, making him an inspiring figure for gamers and streamers the world over.

  • Twitch streamer withawonder accused of grooming underage girls using his chat – Dexerto

Twitch streamer withawonder accused of grooming underage girls using his chat A Twitch streamer has been accused of finding girls in his chat and grooming them, allegedly targeting underage girls and sending unsolicited indecent images and videos. Withawonder isn’t a huge name on the platform, with just over 21k followers, but will regularly have a fairly active chat — and that’s something he’s being accused of taking advantage of. On Wednesday, June 23, a thread was posted to the popular Livestreamfail subreddit with screenshots that appear to show withawonder finding girls in his chat, inviting them to his Discord, and then sending them inappropriate messages. The case in point, from Redditor WafflesAreExtinct, apparently shows withawonder non-plussed by the fact that they say they’re just 17 years old. In fact, the first set of screenshots shows the accused saying “Young, I like that,” before sending an indecent video of himself. The post also included several screenshots of withawonder’s Twitch DMs to the accuser, confirming it was him and immediately seeking to find out whether the viewer was a girl. Finally, upon the viewer admitting that they were putting together a thread to post on Reddit about his behavior, withawonder resorted to using racial slurs. “I know you were fake,” he said in his final Discord message. “I like taking dumb n***ers like you and have you people try to get me banned.” While withawonder’s Discord server has now been banned, eagle-eyed users found several incriminating tweets from the streamer, too, that have all since been deleted. In one, he says that “having consensual sex with a 14yo girl is less of a crime than stealing a 6 pack of Coca-Cola.” In another, he said that “underage consent should require both parents and daughter’s approval to be seen as morally okay in God’s eyes.” In a follow-up tweet, he clarified that the girl “must be in puberty too, so 13+.” Don’t forget to let her know you’re a pedophile 🙂 pic.twitter.com/F5B3Y5NhCv — thirty six butts (@wedemfuccbois) August 4, 2020 Since these posts started coming to light, withawonder’s Twitter account has disappeared, though his Twitch channel remains intact. Withawonder has not responded to the accusations.

  • Twitch streamer who tried to warn about Bits scam gets banned from Bits himself – Dexerto

Twitch streamer who tried to warn about Bits scam gets banned from Bits himself TwitchA Twitch streamer has been banned from receiving Bits, after they say they tried to alert Twitch about a Bits scam in a bizarre turn of events. One way that viewers can donate to their favorite Twitch streamers is through the use of Bits. This is a kind of alternative form of currency exclusive to Twitch, meaning that donations aren’t made via a third party. In 2021, though, it was discovered that some streamers were using Bits in a grandiose money laundering scam that saw 40 people arrested in Turkey. The amount laundered was reportedly around $10m. These Bits scams are now well-known and with action being taken, some streamers are being extremely cautious — but that might not be the best idea, apparently. On February 3, Minecraft streamer Verloren revealed that he had reached out to Twitch Support regarding what he thought was a suspicious Bit donation, but it ended the response wasn’t anything like he would have expected. “I reported an issue 2 months ago about a suspicious donation from an anonymous cheerer that took place off-stream (120,000 bits, yes $1.2K USD),” Verloren explained. “Nearly 2 hours after the donation I noticed it in my StreamLabsOBS alert feed on my 2nd monitor. “I made a support ticket requesting they freeze my account to ensure that donation was legitimate… I didn’t want to spend money that would be eventually charged back.” nearly 2 hours after the donation I noticed it in my StreamLabsOBS alert feed on my 2nd monitor. I made a support ticket requesting they freeze my account to ensure that donation was legitimate… I didn’t want to spend money that would be eventually charged back. (2/5) — Verlo (@ImVerlo) February 4, 2022 In back and forth emails with Twitch support, they said that his account was back to normal, though he didn’t have the gifted subs/Bits leaderboard when he went live. Finally, questioning why this was happening, Verloren was frustrated to learn that they had terminated his eligibility for the Bits system, essentially removing the option from his channel forever. I sent another email asking why and this is the response (picture). @TwitchSupport Love you so much🥳🥰 TLDR : Reported suspicious 1.2K USD donation offstream and requested my payment on hold until solved, they reviewed it and terminated me from ever recieving Bits. (5/5) pic.twitter.com/ngozE4V0ge— Verlo (@ImVerlo) February 4, 2022 Twitch doesn’t often make a habit of giving public responses to bans, suspensions or other moderation actions, so it’s unlikely we will get a clear answer on why this decision was made. Verloren and his viewers will be hoping for this decision to be overturned, especially considering his good intentions throughout.

  • Twitch streamer who was caught faking cancer criticized over early return – Dexerto

Twitch streamer who was caught faking cancer criticized over early return Twitch: MsDirtyBird‘MsDirtyBird,’ the Twitch streamer who faked a cancer diagnosis, has been criticized for making her return to the platform three weeks after her lie unraveled. She has taken up a podcast and commentary role, as well as restarted her personal stream. MsDirtyBird was widely condemned after claiming she had brain and lung cancer in streams dating back to January 2021. Once she admitted to misleading her viewers, she was dropped from her organization, N7 Esports, and issued two apologies after her first one was deemed “scripted” by the community. She claimed she’d be taking a break from streaming lasting between “six months to a year.” However, she returned to the platform in just three weeks to help out on a Rocket League broadcast. “I have opened up my account again, and I want to apologize for lying to the Rocket League community and hurting you guys,” she said on Twitter on her return. “I lied about having cancer but it wasn’t recently. I had lied about it back in January. “I can’t say that I remember when I told the lie about me having cancer, but I can say that I didn’t realize that it was a lie that I couldn’t get out of.” https://twitter.com/MsDirtyBird91/status/1438922444388147209 The organizer, Slips, has faced widespread criticism for giving MsDirtyBird a platform. Many viewers vowed to “skip” the broadcast because of the streamer’s presence. MsDirtyBird said she was “grateful” for the platform giving her a second chance. https://twitter.com/MsDirtyBird91/status/1438908185088335875 She has also restarted her personal stream, going live on Twitch on September 16 in front of 20 average viewers. Her chat was kept clean by moderators, with no negative comments appearing on the VOD, which Dexerto has seen.

  • ‘Topless’ Twitch streamer wears censor bars as controversial meta evolves – Dexerto

‘Topless’ Twitch streamer wears censor bars as controversial meta evolves Twitch/firedancerTwitch’s new “topless meta” has taken the streaming world by storm and now, an OnlyFans model has found a way to spice up the controversial content through censorship. The streaming landscape changed in early December when Twitch streamers began broadcasting “topless,” testing the platform’s terms of service. Morgpie, the streamer who popularized this trend, revealed in an exclusive interview with Dexerto that she actually wears clothes while streaming that the camera doesn’t show. Now, other streamers have stepped in to take the meta to the next level by appearing completely nude with censor bars covering her private regions. ‘Topless’ Twitch streamer panics as censor bar vanishes Across social media, clips spread showing Twitch streamer and OnlyFans model ‘Firedancer’ broadcasting while appearing to be stark naked. The footage soon spread like wildfire with the original clip receiving over 100,000 views in under a day with many users impressed and disgusted by the stream. However, she wasn’t actually nude. In another clip, her censor bar suddenly vanished, revealing that the Twitch streamer was wearing a bra underneath, causing her to panic and hide. “New meta just dropped,” captioned one user on Reddit. “How trashy can we get, surely this is the limit,” said someone else. Another user was more hostile with their response and urged the Amazon-owned platform to take action: “Twitch just ban this shi*t already…It’s so goddamn sad to see what Twitch has become.” So far, Twitch has yet to comment on the censor bar controversy. Just recently, following the topless meta’s popularity, the site briefly changed its guidelines to allow “artistic nudity” but reverted the policy after streamers took things too far.

  • Twitch streamer who cleaned the dirtiest room ever is back in a mess – Dexerto

Twitch streamer who cleaned the dirtiest room ever is back in a mess Streamer Jaegerrmeister, who definitely had the dirtiest room on Twitch – and possibly the world – revealed that things have gotten pretty bad again and he finally had to strap on some cleaning gloves. Back in June, Jaegerrmeister went viral after viewers noticed the incredible levels of trash that sat around him in his room. In fact, he revealed that he hadn’t cleaned his room since 2005, but was made to change after going viral. Yet, the streamer relapsed and allowed the trash to build up again after the release of WoW Classic as he claimed that you can “clean the room” but you “can’t clean the lifestyle.” Now though, as the problem has gotten worse yet again, he’s returned to make amends – grabbing some trash bags and a shovel and getting back to work. After being a few minutes into his clean-up stream, Jaegerrmeister gave viewers a close up look at some of the mess that had piled up over the last few months. “The drums are still in here, some books, TV. Got some plates and such,” the streamer noted, showing off his growing pile of trash. With the problem getting so bad and the trash being rampant again, viewers quickly had their answer as to why he seemingly doesn’t clean up. “That’s a fridge, so I don’t have to leave my room to eat, there’s also a microwave for the same purpose,” the streamer said. “We got some sh*t down there too and we’re going to f**king clean this all up, tonight.” On the face of it, the trash alone looks rather disgusting and many other people would probably have had it straightened out before it reached that point, but what it can attract makes it so much worse. During his clean-up, the streamer noted that there had been maggots popping up – leaving somebody he was chatting with at the time wondering if he was being truthful or not. “Oh yeah, well there were, I got rid of most of them I think,” he said, before revealing how the creatures got into his living space. “I have to have my window [open] and so you can see this fan – I have to have this fan on at all times, purging the scent,” Jaegerrmeister added. After close to three hours of cleaning up, the streamer still had some way to go in his clean-up effort and even tried to call it quits at one point. “I’m tired dude, I’m exhausted, I’m sweating dude – it’s bad,” Jaegerrmeister complained. However, he was urged to carry on with the clean-up by the folks who he was streaming with. Despite that, the streamer protested and claimed that he’d done enough. “My room’s clean enough already, I got like room for my legs again, I can like roll around in my chair bro,” he said, even though he still had mounds of trash to clean up. Even though he’d gotten rid of a decent amount of the rubbish during his three-hour stream, Jaegerrmeister still had some serious work to do before he ended his stream a few minutes after complaining. Whether or not he’ll actually get back to finishing off the cleaning session with a further sweep remains to be seen, but he might just be better off calling in some outside help to do it for him – and actually make that a regularly scheduled thing.

  • Twitch streamer warned after launching AI bot to let fans generate “hot” content – Dexerto

Twitch streamer warned after launching AI bot to let fans generate “hot” content Instagram/susu_jpgPopular Twitch streamer and YouTuber Susu has launched her own AI bot to let fans generate their own custom content and combat deep fakes, but some are worried that it could be too dangerous. Many top streamers have been utilizing AI to assist with their content. Notably, Amouranth launched her own AI chatbot and an AI version of xQc ended up getting thousands of views. However, AI has some dark sides. Deepfakes of content creators have become a big problem as adult platforms have hosted videos with their likenesses without consent. To combat the ongoing deepfakes, Susu unveiled her own AI bot to give fans more control over what kinds of content they get while monetizing off of it. Susu’s new AI bot compared to Black Mirror episode On December 12, Susu announced that her bot was active and revealed details in a post on X. “Text, voice messaging and hot photos are all possible and all made with consent! Don’t waste time with Susu impersonators and scuffed deepfakes when you can have high quality pictures and a scam free experience!” she explained. She continued, saying how only images of herself and voice recordings were used to produce the bot’s content while all other elements are purely computer generated. “I’ve been dealing with people misusing my identity for years and all the parasocial problems caused by my impostors are due to them not saying they aren’t me. The bot is upfront that it’s not real and has regulation,” Susu added, noting that safety was one of her top priorities. Despite the assurance that she had this under control, that didn’t stop others from warning about the potential dangers of using this technology. “Be careful. this fuels schizo parasocial sh*t really really bad,” commented YouTuber Shoe0nHead. “Ain’t this that one Black Mirror episode,” said another with a screenshot of ‘Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too’ where a singer’s personality is placed inside of a doll. Susu, however, remained unphased by the concerns. “People have been using my images for years to scam others and I’m stuck explaining to the victims that they were fooled. The bot is upfront that it’s not real and can have regulation,” she retorted. “It’s safer than what I’ve been dealing with. I understand your concern of course.” For more viral entertainment news, keep it locked to Dexerto.

  • Twitch streamer under fire for trying to explain why racist jokes are “OK” – Dexerto

Twitch streamer under fire for trying to explain why racist jokes are “OK” YouTube: DSPGamingDarksydePhil, a popular gaming Twitch streamer, has faced criticism after attempting to explain why racist jokes and ‘generalizations’ are just “silly” and require “thick skin”. The topic arose after a viewer asked why he called people upset by racist jokes “sensitive”, when he himself would be upset when mocked for gout, a form of arthritis. “Why do you say people are sensitive over racist jokes, but you get upset when people joke about your gout?” DarksydePhil read back on his September 16 livestream, responding, “because racist jokes are silly, if you do them in a general fashion.” “What I mean by that is, when you make a joke that is a racial generalization, about a race, let’s say something about the Italians, or the Chinese, it’s usually a generalization, you’re not directing that towards one person,” DarksydePhil explained. The streamer described it as “observational comedy”, but continued by saying that “admittedly, people can get angry and get insulted, or touchy about it – you have to be careful, because some people just don’t have thick skin.” However, with his medical condition, the streamer argued that “taking a jab at that is kinda fucked up,” suggesting that joking about a “heritage” is not a “big deal”, but joking about a medical condition is. Clarifying, DarksydePhil said that “insulting someone personally” on the issue of race, is different from “making a general joke about race […] I think that’s ok.” The streamer, who also goes by DSPGaming on YouTube, was criticized for his comments online, with some highlighting that his description of gout being hereditary is not entirely accurate, but even if so, there is nothing more hereditary than one’s race. Others labeled it as “hypocrisy at its finest.” It’s not the first time that DSP, real name Phil Burnell, has made a similar argument. In a video compilation of allegedly racist jokes made by the content creator, he states “It’s funny to joke around and say things that, in a serious setting, might be racially insensitive, but they’re not really meant, and therefore, they can be pretty comedic. DSP’s most infamous controversy occurred back in 2016, when he failed to notice that his camera was still live and masturbated while broadcasting. Twitch has strict guidelines protecting against “hateful conduct”, which covers “any content or activity that promotes, encourages, or facilitates discrimination, denigration, objectification, harassment, or violence based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, medical condition, physical characteristics, or veteran status.” At the time of writing, DarksydePhil’s channel has not been handed a suspension from the platform for his comments.

  • Twitch streamer uses hilarious Magikarp cosplay to “compete” with hot tub meta – Dexerto

Twitch streamer uses hilarious Magikarp cosplay to “compete” with hot tub meta Twitch: ShaperkaShaperka, a popular Twitch streamer with more than 100,000 followers, stepped into a hot tub wearing a hilarious Magikarp costume in an effort to “compete” with other hot tub streamers. Twitch’s hot tub meta took the internet by storm when it started gaining traction over a month ago. It’s helped some streamers blow up. However, it’s also seen many others get banned, which has become a heated topic within itself. Everyone from Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel to Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys and Rachel ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter have shared their thoughts on it, while others like Ethan Klein from H3 Podcast have mocked it. Either way, the meta doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon. And it’s set to reach new heights with the announcement of an OfflineTV stream. However, Shaperka has stolen the spotlight, for the time being at least, with her hilarious tongue-in-cheek take on the ‘if you can’t beat em,’ join ’em’ approach. She decided to do a hot tub stream humorously dressed as a splashing Magikarp, the beloved Water-type Pokemon. “I became a Magikarp to compete with other hot tub streamers,” she said. “I’d like to note the neighbors saw me from their balcony above me, and I can imagine that angle really added something special to the view.” She did everything from flexing her muscles and catching some rays to slamming down some refreshments and patting her dog. And of course, she didn’t forget to use Magikarp’s signature move, ‘Splash,’ to really get into the character. I’d like to note the neighbors saw me from their balcony above me and I can imagine that angle really added something special to the view — shaperka (@shaperka) May 11, 2021 Shaperka’s unique and hysterical approach to the hot tub meta left her fans in stitches. They described it as “amazing” and “the best thing ever.” Overall reception to the general hot tub meta has been less than welcoming, however. In fact, the whole hot tub meta debacle has reached the point where mainstream media is covering it. Some people believe the taboo of hot tub streams makes them so successful. However, Shaperka’s Magikarp is proof streamers can break away from the mold and use it to provide a good laugh.

We’re not going to talk about it in my chat cause it’s Friday and that is a whole big bucket of bummer,” he said. “I didn’t ask you to tell me the biggest f*ckin bummer news in the world, I said what’s up, how are you?” He continued: “Let me give you a little bit of a lesson MissNerdyCurvy, when something really really bad is going on in your life and in a public forum, someone asks you ‘Hey Whats up, how are you?’ there are two acceptable responses. Good, and ‘You know what, ill make it through.’ That’s it.” WeFoundTheBody did apologize in a tweet as well as an accompanying video shared to Twitter. The creator said: “In response to NerdyCurvy/my reaction to the news she shared in chat while I was live. My apologies to her. That was a c*nty reaction. I shouldn’t have been such a do*che. I was just annoyed by the repeated trauma dumping that had been happening that week. My mistake.” Twitch community slams WeFoundTheBody’s response Members of the Twitch community haven’t taken well to his initial response or his apology messages, sharing their thoughts between the various tweets. “Trauma dumping is absolutely a thing. Is that what you did? It is absolutely not. A short “sorry for your loss, hope things get better” would have been fine. But to single you out and make a bad situation worse? I’m sorry you had to deal with that,” said Twitch star Cohh Carnage. That is unbelievable. — Cohh Carnage (@CohhCarnage) December 14, 2022 Trauma dumping is absolutely a thing. Is that what you did? It is absolutely not. A short “sorry for your loss, hope things get better” would have been fine. But to single you out and make a bad situation worse? I’m sorry you had to deal with that. 😔 “He asked where she had been and gave him an honest answer. Absolutely not trauma dumping. Appalling behavior from the streamer. Lacking any empathy,” another user said. A third user replied: “Yeah this apology sucks. What you said was borderline bullying and was DEFINITELY belittling. All because YOU asked where she had been and she gave you an answer that YOU didn’t want. You sound selfish and uncaring for your community and their hardships. Hope you change man.” With several thousand likes and hundreds of comments across relevant tweets, it’s clear that people aren’t happy with the situation.

  • Twitch streamer under fire for hateful comments about transgender community – Dexerto

Twitch streamer under fire for hateful comments about transgender community WingsOfRedemption, YouTube / UbisoftPopular livestreaming platform Twitch, like many online communities, can be a haven for both positive change and negative interactions – one of which took place during a livestream held by content creator Jordie ‘WingsOfRedemption’ Jordan. Jordan was playing a game of Rainbow Six: Siege for his audience when the transgender community was brought up as a topic in the conversation, after a fellow player on the mic speculated that one of R6’s operators, Gridlock, was transgender. “…It looks like a dude wearing makeup,” Jordan agreed. “There’s different levels of transgender. There’s ‘good’ trans and ‘bad’ trans.” One of Jordan’s teammates appeared to call out his wildly problematic statement, laughingly asking, “What does that even mean?” “Some transgender actually look like what they’re going for, while others look like a guy with a sailor tattoo and a beard with lipstick on,” Jordan continued. His comments were backed up by another player in the group’s voice chat, who claimed that “All trans look the same to me, man.” This vitriol caused a stir online, with many viewers decrying Jordan’s statements on the subject across Reddit. “I don’t know how people can defend this,” one commenter wrote of the debacle. “This is the equivalent of saying that being gay is sometimes bad, or a woman sometimes bad, or black sometimes bad. As in, you need to be the PROPER version of LGBT for it to be appropriate. This kind of filth needs to be cleaned from Twitch.” an episode of the PKA Podcast, should they ever come out as gay. “Let me say this – if my kids grow up to be gay, I’m beating the shit out of ‘em,” Jordan said. “…look here, there’s two choices in life. You pretend or you’re straight, or I beat you to death.” Jordan has yet to respond to the backlash from his latest statements.

  • Twitch streamer apologizes after heavy backlash over pushing dog into fridge – Dexerto

Twitch streamer apologizes after heavy backlash over pushing dog into fridge GsxrclydeTwitch streamer GsxrClyde has apologized after receiving heavy backlash for pushing his dog into a mini-fridge in a viral clip that has been making the rounds on social media. On January 3, GsxrClyde, like a lot of other streamers for the new year, put out a “best of” compilation on YouTube. After it came out though, Twitter user @WavelIY posted a clip from the video that shows Clyde pushing his dog Thor into a fridge. It wasn’t long before the clip circulated on social media. Many people started going after the streamer, who defended himself onstream amidst the outrage. “You’re pissing me off” if you want the clip with sound 👍 pic.twitter.com/22aip7wZLb — Boris The Bullet Dodger (@WavelIy) January 3, 2022 In the clip, Clyde is examining a camera harness for Thor, who’s joining along and sniffing things out. Suddenly, the streamer looks down and uses his forearm to push the dog back, which sends him reeling into the mini-fridge behind him with enough force to knock items over on top. Twitter users quickly made comparisons to the infamous Alinity cat-throwing incident in quote tweets and replies to @WavelIY , and wondered why the streamer decided to include it in his “best of 2021” video at all. GsxrClyde apologizes for “unacceptable behavior” Initially, Clyde claimed that no one cared when the incident happened earlier in the year. “That clip has been on Twitch [for a while],” he said. “When it happened, no one said a damn word.” However, he has since apologized for his actions. “Yesterday, when the situation was brought to me and was posted on Twitter, I handled it unprofessionally and immaturely. I mean, let’s just be honest here. It was uncalled for. It wasn’t right. You shouldn’t push your dog around.” He also accepted full responsibility for his actions. “You can’t make six years of good content and have one bad thing go unexcused, because it’s not. That one bad thing could screw you over, and you should be one hundred percent accountable for it.” This is my response to my unacceptable behavior regarding the clip with Thor, and my apology to anyone affected by the clip.https://t.co/YnsG085eHE — GSXRCLYDE (@GSXRCLYDE) January 4, 2022 Clyde also revealed that he’s received lots of hate and death threats from people over his actions. “It’s been a tough night,” he said. “I’ve been reading everything. It’s not easy to read. But you live and you learn. I’m human. I make mistakes.” In the end, though, he went back to his main point and apologized to everyone for not only his actions but also his reaction afterward.

  • Streamer under fire after bragging about ‘getting men banned’ on Twitch – Dexerto

Streamer under fire after bragging about ‘getting men banned’ on Twitch Twitch: KayleePopular Twitch streamer ‘Kaylee’ has received criticism after boasting about the number of men she has had permanently banned from the streaming platform, but she claims that it was in her own defense, and that the clips were out of context. Kaylee, who boasts over 20,000 followers on the platform, appeared to brag about having her record of having men banned, in a now-deleted clip. “I wanna know how many men I’ve gotten banned,” she said. “It’s pretty fucking hilarious. I would like to know how many men I’ve gotten banned in the past year. It has to be like, a good 20 or so.” She went on to explain that she uses an “admin” in her chat to permanently ban random accounts. “It would be quite unfortunate if I reported all of these accounts to Twitch and I got you all permanently banned. Maybe I should do that, what do you guys think? You guys think I should do that? What do you guys thinks? I could be petty as fuck and do it, just for the fuck of it. Yeah, okay, I’ll do it.” “I’ll just message the admin I have in my chat all the time,” she continued. “Because I do have an admin in my chat all the time, so you know, it’s pretty easy for me. I’ll do that for you seeing as you wanna talk shit for no reason. No biggie.” From the clip, it appears Kaylee is banning certain accounts due to them using the chat to “talk shit”, or otherwise harass her. Kaylee herself tweeted that the comments had been taken out of context, and that she was just ‘defending herself’. 600However, many commenters were critical of Kaylee’s admissions, unhappy with the what they saw as an abuse of power. Others came to her defense though, arguing that she was banning people who had been harassing her or had been racist, and therefore was justified in her actions. Some have called for Kaylee to be punished by Twitch for what they deem unfair behavior, and some argued that if genders were reversed, and it was a man banning women, there would have already been repercussions. Twitch has faced criticism itself in the past for perceived favoritism, accused of handing out harsher or more lenient punishments to some streamers, and being inconsistent. Kaylee is of course within her right to remove users from her chat at her whim, but having users banned from the site entirely is another step, that requires Twitch itself to take action on the accounts reported.

  • Twitch streamer under fire after partner appears to abuse dog on stream – Dexerto

Twitch streamer under fire after partner appears to abuse dog on stream A Twitch streamer and YouTuber has come under fire after footage appears to show his partner in the background of his stream hitting and dragging a large dog. YouTuber DwkVideos, real name Donny Klien, who also streams on Twitch, and has 35,000 subscribers on his channel for military-related videos, was broadcasting live via a facecam when the incident occurred. The woman, sitting on the couch behind Klien, appears to subject a large German Shepherd to a series of attacks, with the clip later spreading on social media. It’s unclear why the confrontation between the woman and the dog began, but she can be seen throwing a pillow first, before dragging the dog across the room by the scruff of its neck/collar area. As she appears to attempt to pin the dog down, it wrestles from her grasp and growls back at her. Hearing the commotion, the streamer asks, “why are you being mean to Bubba? What are you doing to Bubba?” Some viewers may find footage distressing. It is difficult to make out the woman’s response, but it appears she explains that she was trying to keep the dog out of the kitchen. After the clip was spread on social media, users were critical of the use of physical force, with some calling on Twitch and PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) to take action. https://twitter.com/FNBRUnreleased/status/1213293422926319616 It puts Twitch in a potentially tricky situation, as the streamer himself does not physically engage with the dog. Some have suggested that he should not be punished by the platform for this reason. https://twitter.com/irrationalpara1/status/1213307719253409792 However, streamers are typically liable for all content on their broadcasts, regardless of their own involvement. Dexerto has reached out to Mr. Klien for comment. Twitch has banned streamers in the past for animal abuse, although sparked controversy after one suspended streamer claimed she was just playing with her dog. Most infamously, massively popular streamer Alinity was accused of abusing her cat, after she threw it over her head in one instance, and appeared to spit vodka in the cat’s mouth in another clip. PETA called for the platform to punish her, but Alinity was not banned for the incidents, and the SPCA found no wrongdoing after an investigation.

  • Twitch streamer under fire after scamming Doordash & insulting delivery drivers – Dexerto

Twitch streamer under fire after scamming Doordash & insulting delivery drivers Twitter, @NadeGrinds / Pexel, Norma MortensonA popular NBA 2K streamer on Twitch, NaDeXe, has successfully enraged the internet by shamelessly scamming Doordash and then mocking delivery drivers when told his actions put their careers at risk. “The customer is always right” is a popular expression, but one that has become questioned more and more in the decades since it was coined by Selfridge’s Harry Gordon in 1909. Over 100 years later, the internet has found one customer who they’ve decided is quite wrong. NaDeXe was streaming NBA 2K while ordering food and apparently told his viewers about a Doordash scam he pulled off: receiving a food delivery, then requesting a refund because either something was wrong with the order or it never got there. Dubbing this strategy the “refund of death,” viewers complained that, while NaDeXe’s actions wouldn’t be investigated by Doordash, the delivery driver’s job could be put at risk. He then doubled down, insulting delivery drivers and instantly angering the internet. Twitch streamer Nadexe is under fire for disrespecting DoorDash drivers after allegedly requesting a fake refund. pic.twitter.com/7VOp1ZERoC — Dexerto (@Dexerto) September 20, 2021 As you can hear in the clip, which starts as NaDeXe responds to chat’s criticisms, the streamer isn’t worried about his impact on someone’s livelihood. “I don’t give a f**k about Doordash motherf**kers, they can suck it … Not my fault they chose that job.” This nonchalant response wasn’t received particularly well, as the clip, titled “rich guy thoughts on fake refunding his doordash,” went straight to the LiveStreamFail subreddit. And, with notes of universal karmic balancing, the backlash also spilled onto Twitter. https://twitter.com/NadeGrinds/status/1439662477390880781?s=20 After the controversial clip, NaDeXe took to Twitter to complain to his 158.6k followers about his PayPal getting suspended due to viewers “charging back dollars after donating.” Yes, the fake delivery purchaser got hit with fake donations, resulting in a frozen PayPal account. As for how this has been received, someone on Twitter was a little more elaborate than the “braindead f**king human being” comments on Reddit. We’ll let user ‘Lukes__Father’ wrap this whole story up, as they did in the replies to the PayPal tweet: “The absolute irony of you crying on Twitter about this hours after doing this same thing to a DoorDash driver is exactly the kind of laugh I needed tonight. Not our fault you chose this as your job.”

  • Twitch streamer banned after telling suicidal person to kill themself [UPDATE] – Dexerto

Twitch streamer banned after telling suicidal person to kill themself [UPDATE] Controversial on-stream moment shows a Runescape Twitch streamer, who is partnered on the platform, tell a supposedly suicidal person: “I think you should just kill yourself.” The streamer, known as ‘Aus_Swag’ on Twitch, is asked by a friend to call an apparently suicidal woman to give her advice and support. However, when the streamer makes the call, he instead simply states “I think you should just kill yourself”, before he and others in the call burst into laughter. The relationship between the the streamer, Aus_Swag, and the supposedly suicidal person, is unknown. The livestream from which the controversial clip was taken, along with the rest of the VOD are no longer available on Twitch. Twitch didn’t take long to take action, banning Aus_Swag, but the clip has spread online, sparking outrage at his comments. One user wrote “absolutely reprehensible behavior”, and others suggested he should be banned from the platform. Twitch users quickly flocked to Aus_Swag’s channel following the spread of the clip, and Aus_Swag was seen in chat spamming laughing emotes, and even promoting Twitch Prime subscriptions. There have been previous examples of Twitch streamers giving out highly questionable advice to vulnerable people, including a widely publicized story of streamer JScubby saying he would “dare” his friends to commit suicide. In another similar incident, League of Legends coach Saintvicious was released from his position with FlyQuest after stating on stream that he believed depression and anxiety were “made up excuses”. UPDATE: Aus_swag has issued a statement for his actions and subsequent ban on Twitch. In his apology, Aus_swag linked a video containing a clipped conversation with the troubled person in which he asks if she remembered him making the comment, to which she said no. His apology included a $200 donation to the Beyond Blue non-profit organization that aims to address mental disorders associated with depression, anxiety, thoughts on suicide and more. The apology has left many to doubt its sincerity, as it was made after the fallout of the consequences that the streamer received from Twitch and his sponsors. “Doesn’t matter if you muted yourself saying it, you still said it to get a laugh from your scummy friends. Might want to uninstall that Runescape app now you’re banned,” YouTube user Toby Paterson wrote in response to the video. Both his video and his Twitter apology have been met with extreme public disapproval.

Majestic Unicorn is yet to release a statement amid the accusations and in response to their channel being allegedly banned. We will update this post with any more relevant information as and when it unfolds. Twitch are making a continued effort to enforce the repercussions for overstepping the marking while streaming on their platform. • Twitch streamer banned after “racist” claims and praising the Unibomber – Dexerto

Twitch streamer banned after “racist” claims and praising the Unibomber hey_t0ny | YouTubeAfter praising the Unibomber and saying that “it’s okay to be racist,” Twitch streamer hey_t0ny has been banned from Twitch. His now ex-girlfriend bbjess is under fire for being associated with these ban-worthy comments. Twitch is a platform that welcomes pretty much anyone who’s old enough and can get their hands on a way to stream. Thousands of streamers have found their own audience, and many have made streaming their full-time job. One such streamer is hey_t0ny, a man who streamed full-time on Twitch along with his (up until recently) girlfriend, bbjess. However, some comments on his Twitch stream have been followed by an indefinite ban from the platform. He claimed “it’s okay to be racist” during a stream, praised the Unibomber, promptly deleted all his VoDs afterward, and has since put his Twitter account on private. Streamer banned for “racist” claims while live on Twitch While playing Fall Guys, Twitch streamer hey_t0ny was talking to his chat and had some takes that even the people playing with him questioned. Eventually, the conversation led to him saying, “it’s okay to be racist a little bit,” resulting in a clip that has put this Twitch streamer in hot water. It’s not possible to get access to the VoDs now, yet recordings of the on-stream moments have captured some parts of the deleted videos. After the “it’s okay to be racist” comment, someone in-call with hey_t0ny asked, “What the f*** does that mean?” In another clip, he praised the Unibomber, saying “Ted Kaczynski is kind of a genius,” followed by a chatter mocking him via text-to-speech, saying “Do you think Hitler is a genius, too?” Tony was dating bbjess, a much larger streamer and content creator. Following these clips being posted and hey_t0ny being under fire on Twitter, they’ve broken up. hey_t0ny initially deleted all of his VoDs and went been silent on social media in the time that followed these clips surfacing. He’s now been banned on Twitch. Vyne, the person who posted the on-stream clips of Tony, claims that Jess has blocked them on Twitter following a series of posts about her and Tony over the past few months. Vyne also has a lengthy thread of screenshots of tweets made from Tony’s Twitter account that they streamer has been criticized for, all of which Jess separated herself from at the time.

  • Twitch streamer unable to ban Twitch staff after they “gaslit” him in chat – Dexerto

Twitch streamer unable to ban Twitch staff after they “gaslit” him in chat Twitch: Harris HellerA Twitch streamer was left visibly distressed after a Twitch staff member joined his livestream and began telling him off, with the streamer then expressing how much the interaction triggered his “anxiety”, especially when realizing he was unable to ban the staff member from the chat. Twitch staff member Seth Hendrix joined Harris Heller’s stream when the content creator was discussing the recent controversy surrounding the platform in regard to its Branded Content guidelines. The staff member then commented in the chat, “No one is saying you’re wrong about anything. Just you have so many assumptions that are so way off.” Heller then began showing signs of discomfort before stating, “I’m happy to be wrong but just tell me I’m wrong. Don’t tell me I’m wrong and then say I’m not saying you’re wrong…I don’t understand why we’re having this conversation. If Twitch is trying to fix its appearance with streamers, you can’t come into a streamer’s chat.” Heller then showed more discomfort before stating, “I want to end my stream right now because I feel so uncomfortable by getting gaslit by Twitch staff on my livestream. Like what is happening here?” He then tried to ban the staff member from the chat before quickly realizing he is unable to do so. Part of the system that Twitch has in place is that staff cannot be removed or banned from streams, meaning that Harris was unable to do anything about the situation despite it triggering his “ social anxiety” in a big way. Twitch streamer distressed after staff member joins chat In the aftermath, Heller took to Twitter to explain what happened and how he was left feeling afterward. “Hey guys. Yeah this was super weird and my social anxiety was sky-high but people deal with way worse on stream every day. It’s not a huge deal. I just shut down stream and played outside with my daughter instead. 10/10 would recommend.” However, Heller did then state that he does not want his followers or anyone else sending “hate” towards the staff member, writing that it is “not worth it.” For all the latest Twitch news and updates, be sure to check out Dexerto’s full coverage here.

  • Twitch streamer under fire for telling fans to stop “painful” small talk – Dexerto

Twitch streamer under fire for telling fans to stop “painful” small talk Twitch: FleeksieTwitch streamer ‘Fleeksie’ has come under fire after advising viewers on how they should and shouldn’t interact with their favorite content creators, leading to backlash from many among the streaming community. With over 30,000 followers on the Amazon-owned platform, Fleeksie labels herself as the “world’s most pointless Twitch streamer.” While she dips into a variety of games here and there, she’s most often found in the Just Chatting category, watching videos and keeping up with her chat. Plenty of viewers jump straight into her broadcasts when she goes live. However, the 26-year-old streamer has a few guidelines on how she wants people to act in her chat. None of these recommendations are listed in her Twitch biography. Instead, she revealed her biggest pet peeve in a September 5 tweet. “Small talk” is something that should be kept in the Twitch chat, not directed towards the streamer, according to Fleeksie. This mindset led to a wave of backlash from her community and even saw her come under fire from some hugely popular names on the broadcasting platform. https://twitter.com/fleeksie/status/1302425936583897088 “Stop going into [people’s] live streams and asking “how are you,” she tweeted after her latest broadcast. “We live. We streaming. Other people are watching. The room is not on fire. Things are ok… just comment on what’s happening,” she said. “Ask someone else in the chat how they are doing if you want small talk,” Fleeksie continued. “Every time I say ‘I’m good how are you’ I feel a little puke in the back of my throat rise up. It’s actually painful responding to that question.” Her opinion soon caught wind and blew up within the streaming community, as others shared their takes in response. “Be grateful you’re getting engagement,” a fellow Twitch streamer responded. “This suggests you’re unappreciative of your viewers. They’re just being polite.” Be grateful you’re getting engagement. This suggests that you’re unappreciative of your viewers. The streamer, who has 500k followers of his own on Twitch, advised Fleeksie to simply acknowledge her viewers instead of responding to the same question over and over. So when they ask, if you don’t feel like answering directly, don’t. Just say “Hey X! Good to see you.” or ask them how they’ve been or tell them you hope them well, all they’re asking for is acknowledgement. — DIEGO (@diegosaurs) September 7, 2020 The controversy hasn’t quite ended though, as Fleeksie followed up multiple times amidst the backlash. “People with no stream or 15-viewer Andy streams telling me how to run mine. Don’t quit your day jobs and don’t come for my wig if what you’re doing isn’t working for you,” she said. “Maybe it’s because you ask everyone close-ended, meaningless questions, and think it’s ‘caring’?” Welcome to twitch, where teeny bopper, misogynistic boys wanna tell women what they should be doing and how. Wahhh wahhh b*tch! Stick to chasing internet clout and using pleasantries that work in high school settings 👉 clearly it’s working for you since you have so much to say — fleeksie (@fleeksie) September 6, 2020 She also added she’s now anticipating her chat would now be filled with “how are you?” spam for the next few broadcasts that she hosts, at the very least.

  • Twitch streamer turned 90% of followers into subs and still can’t get partnered – Dexerto

Twitch streamer turned 90% of followers into subs and still can’t get partnered Twitch: TestyFPSTwitch streamer TestyFPS has secured an insane feat by having over 90% of his followers subscribed, despite not even being a partnered broadcaster. But who exactly is he, and how did he manage to get so many subs? When you think of streamers with high sub counts, some of the names that come to mind might include NICKMERCS, Pokimane, and xQc, who have tens of thousands of subs. But have you ever thought about their sub/follower ratio? Looking at stats on TwitchTracker, you’ll be able to see NICKMERCS has just under 50,000 subscribers — while also having over six million followers. As of February 16, 2022, the FPS-based streamer ‘TestyFPS‘ has amassed over 10,000 subs and growing — despite only having 11,597 followers on the platform. The kicker? Twitch has refused his partner application four times. Who is TestyFPS on Twitch? The 31-year-old Twitch streamer started his full-time broadcasting career in 2020 after losing his job and has grown his community immensely since then. Dubbed the “Swole Patrol,” Testy has centered his community around positivity and respect while quickly grinding the ranks on Warzone, Apex Legends, and more. As he’s grown his community, Testy has been able to participate in a wide variety of Warzone tournaments — including various FaZe, Optic, and Subliners events. Since he began streaming, he’s gone live over 700 days in a row while securing the love of his fans every single day. At the time of writing, Testy has amassed just over 11.5k followers, and 10.2k — or just over 90% — of his followers have subscribed to his channel. Having so many subscribers with a relatively low follower count compared to the big names on the platform is a rare occurrence. For example, NICKMERCS has just .74% of his six million Twitch followers subscribed to his channel, while xQc has just .84% — only .1% more. Despite having over 10,000 subscribers and an average viewer count of 147, Twitch has denied Testy’s partner application four times — the most recent being December 2021. When Dexerto reached out for a comment regarding his partner status, he replied: “Regardless of the checkmark, your boy gonna have the same vibes and keep going live every day.”

  • Twitch streamer “traumatized” after her car is set on fire by fan who traveled 700 miles – Dexerto

Twitch streamer “traumatized” after her car is set on fire by fan who traveled 700 miles JustfoxiiA Twitch streamer has revealed a scary situation where a fan drove 700 miles to her house and set her car on fire while she was away on vacation. Over the past few years, streamers and content creators have increasingly had scary interactions with viewers and obsessed fans. When it comes to attending conventions, both Amouranth and Pokimane have used security guards – with the former needing them because stalkers followed her. Some streamers, including Amouranth, have also had issues with fans coming to their homes and hometowns as well. Those who have uncovered streamer’s addresses have, in some cases, broken into the homes. Though, when it happened to xQc, he was in a different location. In the case of ‘justfoxii,’ the Twitch streamer was out of town when a viewer made a 700-mile trip to her home, but it was still incredibly alarming because the ‘fan’ set fire to her car. Twitch streamer reveals crazed fan set her car on fire The streamer, who has been on a brief hiatus from streaming regularly, revealed that while she was on vacation recently, a man came to her house in the early hours of the morning seemingly looking for her. “My mom called me and woke me up,” she explained. “She was crying and I knew something really bad had happened. She said, ‘Someone caught your car on fire. I’m sorry. I have to go, the police are here.’” As she was away from home, justfoxii had to turn to her security cameras to see what was happening. After checking the footage, she witnessed the damage that had been done to her vehicle and how casual the man was about it all. “The firefighters came very quickly,” she continued. “I’m thankful for that, because the fire spread to the fence and burnt the side of my house as well, which my mom and animals were inside of.” “We’re all traumatized in ways that I will never be able to describe, but I’m just glad everybody is safe. I just never thought that when I started streaming that something like this would ever happen to me.” She noted that the man in question has been arrested by the police and that they are dealing with the situation. While she wants to make a return to streaming, justfoxii added that she can’t really until things are settled.

  • Twitch streamer trolls chat with her ‘accidental’ Blue Clues cosplay – Dexerto

Twitch streamer trolls chat with her ‘accidental’ Blue Clues cosplay AyyTrae / Blues CluesTwitch’s Just Chatting section is packed full of entertaining moments each day, and a streamer’s Blues Clues cosplay has blown up – for a few reasons. As regular Twitch scrollers will know, Just Chatting is a section of the website that’s very varied. Some people record themselves walking around stores, getting out and about, while others just flick the camera on and go live at home. The beauty of it is that smaller streamers can quite easily see their funniest sketches, or most memorable, be clipped by fans and shared to audiences of thousands. Well, that’s exactly what happened to AyyTrae, who has a fairly small channel of 60,000 followers. Twitch streamer pulls off Blues Clues cosplay The Los Angeles-based creator can often be seen playing RPG or co-op games, and enjoys sharing a big passion of hers – music. Though, none of that really caught the eye when she blew up on January 28. She was giving off the impression that she picked a random outfit for her broadcast. When really, she was cosplaying Steve from Blues Clues, an animated series which ran between 1996 and 2006. As she didn’t announce it, the Twitch chat felt compelled to tell her who she looked like on this occasion. Reading from the chat, AyyTrae said: “You are dressed like Steve from Blues Clues? I have no idea, zero clue, of who you’re talking about. But you know what I’m going to do, I love doing cosplays, so I’m going to take that and physically write it down. “That way, I’m going to remember that. So, I’m going to look up that name after stream – Steve from Blues Clues – see if we can work something out.” Promising to do a future cosplay on the character she’s already portraying was hilarious for those sending her messages. Maybe, she’ll do it again in the future as well while streaming as this gimmick certainly paid off – with the clip doing north of 26,000 views online.

Twitch streamer threatens to ban viewer for not subbing: “Don’t be poor” Twitch: KarenliaoTwitch streamer KarenLiao threatened to ban a viewer for not subscribing to her channel after they sent a one-dollar donation during a recent stream. Over the last few years, Twitch’s popularity has grown significantly. As of 2022, the platform has 140 million active users a month. Among those users are a wide variety of viewers and streamers, most of which actively interact with each other through chat. Sometimes, however, those interactions don’t always go to plan. Twitch streamer KarenLiao recently went viral after threatening to ban a viewer for not subscribing to their channel. Twitch streamer threatens to ban viewer During a recent stream on Twitch, a viewer sent Karen a one-dollar donation. However, she made it clear that she wasn’t happy with it. “Did you just send me one dollar USD? What am I gonna buy with that?” she replied. “Don’t be a p*ssy. Come on, let’s go. Don’t be poor. You already did one dollar? Guess what? I’m literally getting 60 cents.” They finished their rant, “If you don’t sub right now, 3, 2, 1… you’re getting banned.” This isn’t the first time Twitch streamers have asked for subs on the platform — albeit most aren’t doing so as blatantly. Ludwig, for example, was live for over a months time with a subathon in March 2021, where he gained hundreds of thousands of subscribers in the process. • Trainwrecks stunned to find he paid $350 for Clipart logo – Dexerto

Trainwrecks stunned to find he paid $350 for Clipart logo Popular Twitch streamer TrainwrecksTV was left stunned after finding out that his expensive logo was actually just clipart. The IRL [in real-life] streamer has become an increasingly popular destination for viewers on Twitch, in the Just Chatting category, for his on-stream hijinks and outbursts. That was no different during his June 20 recording of the ‘Scuffed Podcast’, where members of his chat pointed out that his logo was being used elsewhere. While the streamer defended himself and stated that he owned the copyright for the image, he got a massive shock when he dove into a Google search. While Trainwrecks tried to fight his corner and maintain that the logo was actually his, despite it being used on a health supplement, and viewers later found that it was copyright free clipart. “It’s clipart. Did you pay for this or just pull it off of something?” asked one member of the call. “Yeah, I paid for it – I paid for someone to create this, do you think I’m good enough to pull this shit off?” the streamer fired back, still maintaining that he had the image copyrighted under his channel. However, his passionate defense immediately crumbled as the other members of his call found the clipart link and begun laughing about the discovery. “Dude, you actually got scammed,” chimed in another voice as they held back laughter. As he opened the link himself, the popular streamer couldn’t believe what he was seeing as he minimized himself and showed off the original image to his viewers. After being asked who created the image for him, Trainwrecks responded: “The same person who made my original emotes made this for me, dude.” Yet, even those graphics were outed as not wholly original as another voiced pointed out that his SquadHey emote resembled the Curious George character. However, he eventually saw the funny side of things as he smiled at his screen and everyone else continued laughing. “Dude, I paid him fucking $350, are you kidding me?” he added, before moving on. While his chat may have mocked him for this pretty expensive misstep, Trainwrecks got some sort of help from his call with one member offering up their services for free in future. Will he take them up on that opportunity? Who knows.

  • Twitch streamer threatened after calling out strangers for littering – Dexerto

Twitch streamer threatened after calling out strangers for littering Twitch: cooksuxA Twitch streamer was threatened by strangers after he called them out for throwing their trash into the street during an IRL broadcast. IRL streams (short for ‘in real life’) make up some of the most popular content on Twitch. In these broadcasts, streamers take their cameras with them all around the world, sharing their travels or daily activities with fans. Of course, there’s more room for chaos to occur when someone brings their streaming setup into the wild. In fact, many streamers have borne the brunt of strangers’ bad behavior when broadcasting outside, with some enduring racist attacks or even threats on their life. One streamer has been added to this category of unfortunate incidents after he caught a group of people littering while parked on the street. Strangers threaten Twitch streamer after being called out for littering Twitch streamer ‘CookSux’ was walking in New York City at night when he came across a group of guys who were stopped at a red light in a large white van, painted with artwork of Bart Simpson. The streamer noticed that the guys were throwing their garbage out of the van and onto the side of the road, and he was quick to call them out for littering — something that is illegal in NYC and can result in both a court summons and a hefty fine. However, the strangers didn’t take kindly to him pointing out their offense, and one of them even appeared to threaten the streamer’s life. “You want me to hop out the vehicle right now?” one of them asked. “If you don’t want **** to get out the car, I suggest you [unintelligible].” “I don’t want you to get out of the car, I was just asking you, why are you throwing the trash out there?” “I’ll give you three seconds before we hop out the car,” the man said, and began counting down. “Hold on a second. Are you threatening me right now?” the streamer asked. After some more back-and-forth, the strangers shut the door of their van and began to drive off — but not before throwing a few plastic bottles at the streamer. This is far from the first time a streamer has been threatened while broadcasting IRL. In fact, streamer ‘reydempto’ was chased by a man threatening to kill him while in a public park just last week.

Twitch streamer threatened with “romance fraud” lawsuit from viewer Ms Kenner/TwitchTwitch streamer ‘Ms Kenner’ says a wealthy donor has allegedly compromised her income, threatened to dox her, and even suggested legal action all because she wouldn’t reciprocate their feelings of affection. Donations from viewers are a large part of how smaller Twitch streamers make their money. However, Destiny 2 streamer ‘Ms Kenner’ has shared her experiences with a generous donor who she claims has been affecting her income after she didn’t feel the same way they felt about her. “Every streamer should be aware of situations like this” On April 16, Ms Kenner posted a twitlonger detailing her experiences with a certain viewer, who’s a “public figure in the music industry.” “He was always an insane gifter and donator….” she explained. “Well, now I see he is just literally insane.” https://twitter.com/ms_kenner/status/1515484977261125636?s=20&t=p7HMZRrox7BfMB06YJMJxQ After allegedly receiving “tons” of donations from this individual across a variety of platforms, the viewer eventually revealed they were romantically interested in the streamer. Kenner, who has a husband and children, obviously didn’t feel the same way. This led the viewer to reportedly dispute all his PayPal transactions and Twitch donations. “That pushed me THOUSANDS into the negative,” Kenner said. “I have been fighting with them and today I received word that his bank decided in his favor. Now I have to pay all that back.” Not only that – the viewer purportedly threatened her with a $5,000 lawsuit for “romance fraud,” and allegedly threatened to dox her and her family, as well. Despite all the threats, Kenner said she was willing to fight for her income in court with her own lawyer, and on April 18 tweeted she had “made progress” on the chargebacks. I have made some progress with this. The whole playout is really not something that I’m going to hash on socials. Just wanted everyone to know that stuff like this is very real and protect yourselves. I will move forward with this privately now. Thank you for your concerns 🙏 — Ms Kenner (@ms_kenner) April 18, 2022 “I have made some progress with this. The whole playout is really not something that I’m going to hash on socials,” she wrote. “Just wanted everyone to know that stuff like this is very real and protect yourselves.” Viewers thinking a streamer owes them something for donating has been happening for years on Twitch, but Ms Kenner’s situation shows just how scary it can really get.

Creators on Twitch have had to deal with racist bots and so-called ‘hate raids’ for over a week now. Despite large numbers of them begging the platform to do something, it’s still happening all over. One of the latest streamers to get targeted was TheBlackHokage. But, it seems he’s had a plan to deal with just this type of incident. Today I was hit with a hate raid on Twitch by basement dwelling musty racist neckbeards. Hokage was obviously ready and waiting for this exact thing to happen, and sprung into action. “Let’s go yo, I’ve been waiting for this s**t, holy s**t, finally,” the streamer said as racist spam flooded his chat. “I see ya’ll been raiding all the black streamers, and I was waiting for you guys to get to me.” Simply by putting his chat in “Subscribers-only” mode, Hokage instantly banished every racist bot right to the shadow realm. “Problem solved. Now they have to pay me to type that in the chat,” he explained, before mocking the troll or trolls who tried to throw him off. Nah but seriously @Twitch this shit lame af. This type of stuff doesn’t bother me, but most people it will. Y’all need to do better in protecting your creators if you’re truly trying to be inclusive. This type of stuff deflates people & runs them to your competitors. — The Black Hokage (@TheBlackHokage) August 15, 2021 Mocking the trolls aside though, TheBlackHokage added that Twitch definitely needs to figure out a way to prevent these raids from happening in the first place. “Nah but seriously Twitch this s**t lame af,” he added. “This type of stuff doesn’t bother me, but most people it will. Y’all need to do better in protecting your creators if you’re truly trying to be inclusive. Stop. This is going to break TOS,” she continued as he followed her. The female streamer told him that he’s crazy and seemingly left him at the entrance of the bar. But moments later, he’s seen behind her once again. She continued to tell him to stop chasing her and to leave, which he eventually did. Hyubsama responds to “drama” Crazy_japanese ended the stream and then started streaming again once she made it home. However, the distraught streamer began to cry in her room and explained to her chat how Hyubsama made her feel “unsafe” and “disrespected.” Hyubsama also started streaming on his channel around this same time. I’m sorry if I did something wrong.” He began crying and laughing simultaneously while apologizing for “possibly making her feel uncomfortable.” At her house, crazy_japanese reflected on the situation. “I feel so stupid. So, let’s focus on that.” This isn’t the first time female streamers have been chased by drunk men in Tokyo. Streamer ‘FakeNerdBoy’, who has just short of 20,000 followers on Twitch, made a life-changing decision recently, having the direct URL of his channel permanently inked just below his left eye. He streams a variety of games, and with that many followers no doubt has a solid fanbase, but he apparently wants to take it to the next level. • Twitch streamer deletes account after falling for strange request – Dexerto

Twitch streamer deletes account after falling for strange request Freepik / PixabayThanks to the advent of live streaming, platforms like Twitch and Mixer provide audiences with a near-constant stream of content – sometimes capturing awkward, unexpected, and downright inappropriate moments as they happen in real-time. As Twitch grows ever more popular, so too do its controversies, with the site experiencing ample slip-ups from multiple streamers in its lifetime. From broadcasters throwing cats over their heads to recording actual fistfights and blatant harassment, Twitch has seen a slew of shocking moments throughout the years – and its count of these moments has now increased by one. While what constitutes appropriate and inappropriate behavior on Twitch continues to warrant discussion, some acts clearly violate the site’s community guidelines, which were breached after one streamer flashed her mammaries for the camera during a September 27 broadcast. The streamer in question was broadcasting herself painting a mountain scene onto a canvas before taking time to speak with her chat, leading to a totally unexpected turn of events. Although the VOD of her stream has since been deleted, with the artist appeared to have been talked into exposing herself, commenting that she had “such bad anxiety today, too,” before biting the bullet. 600This wouldn’t be the first time a streamer has exposed themself on camera in recent days, either: TwitchCon 2019 is currently underway in San Diego, California, with plenty of broadcasters streaming their experiences of the massive event for their audiences. DJ’s “Koi and Bambi” decided to broadcast from a private party at the convention when a guest got a little too comfortable on camera, opening up her blazer to flash viewers before stepping out of frame. 600Unlike the artistic streamer mentioned above, Koi and Bambi’s Twitch channel has yet to be banned, although the VOD and clips from their broadcast have since been deleted – likely to avoid a potential suspension. The artist’s ban comes as no surprise: Twitch takes a hard stance on behavior that breaches its Community Guidelines, with both a “pin-up” artist and popular streamer Amouranth being banned for such “sexual content” in the past – although word is still out on when this particular streamer will be online again.

Twitch streamer takes hot tub meta to next level with breastfeeding stream Twitter: LuxieGamesTwitch streamer LuxieGames found the perfect way to bring the hot tub meta to the next level by using an overlay as a way to cover up while breastfeeding her newborn on stream. One of the first things parents have to figure out with their newborn child is how exactly they plan on feeding, whether it be formula or breastfeeding. While breastfeeding isn’t against Twitch’s community guidelines, moms on the platform may decide to cover up during their broadcast. LuxieGames was recently met with this issue, but her mod helped her find the perfect way to cover up all while bringing the hot tub meta to the next level. LuxieGames finds perfect way to cover up while breastfeeding In a report from Polygon, Luxie revealed how she came up with the idea of a hot tub overlay. Twitch streaming is her full-time job, and it’s not exactly easy to end stream whenever her infant decides it’s time to eat. “So on stream, we decided it would be funny to do a censor bar originally — and then my mod Tori came up with the idea to make it look like I was in a hot tub,” Luxie told Polygon. While the idea was made as a reference to Twitch’s hot tub meta, Luxie made it clear that she “adores” all creators — and it wasn’t made as a way to make fun of them. After posting the overlay on Twitter, LuxieGames’ fans quickly took to the replies to show their support for it. “The way I was like HOW DID SHE FIT A HOT TUB IN THERE???,” one user replied. Another said: “It genuinely took me a second to realize this in fact was not a real hot tub in the room and you in fact were not waterboarding a baby under there.” Luxie and her mod’s creativity just show their ability to adapt to various situations, and it’s clear that everyone’s in love with it.

To put it bluntly, Susu isn’t the type of streamer to back down from a challenge. And if you mess with the bull, you will get the horn. During a November broadcast, Susu was talking with her chat and having a good time when suddenly one viewer hit her up with a request that would normally go ignored by most other streamers. “Hey, can I smash?” the viewer asked, unlikely referring to the Nintendo platform fighter Super Smash Bros. This did, however, get the attention of Susu who then decided to make an example out of such an inquiry. Susu goes off on down bad Twitch viewer Not wasting any time, the streamer sprung into action and unleashed a tsunami of remarks that not just shut down the request, but even put the ball back in the viewer’s corner. “These comments never make sense to me. Shove your d*ck through the computer screen?” she asked. “How is that going to work?” Pondering the viewer’s unrealistic proposition, Susu had a few ideas of how he actually could “smash” – none of which seemed likely to end up happening. https://twitter.com/Susu_jpg/status/1460717089958727683 “Are you going to fly me out to wherever it is? Are you going to drive over here? How does it even work?” she blasted. “I don’t feel like you actually committed to the smash. I feel like you’re just talking sh*t. You’re just saying things.” To end things, Susu gave the viewer a timer. If he really meant he wanted to “smash”, he would need to get up and commit to it. “Come over to my house. Come over here. I dare you! Are you going to show up? I’m waiting. Tick tock, time to f**k!” she exclaimed in a finale worthy of her video caption. Needless to say, Susu really stunned everyone by pulling an Uno reverse card out of her pocket. Hopefully, this makes some fans think twice before sending comments like that to her in the future.

  • Twitch streamer SweetAnita shocked by how much her “dirty” items could sell for – Dexerto

Twitch streamer SweetAnita shocked by how much her “dirty” items could sell for Twitter, @sweetanita / Pexels, PolinaTwitch streamers can make a lot of money off of their streams alone, but Sweet Anita is now looking at a different business venture. After her mods surprised her with some potential price points, she’s asking the internet about the underwear market. Back in July, Sweet Anita considered quitting Twitch entirely due to the “mental toll” of creepy fans. Now, her moderators have keyed in on a way to lean into her fans’ more… intimate interests. In a tweet shared on October 20, Anita revealed that her mods had some interesting new sales pitches. From ‘sanitary items and dirty socks’ to ‘underwear and tissue,’ the streamer’s team thinks she could make a lot of money selling used items on the side. So, a mindblown Anita has turned to the internet for answers — asking just how much the aforementioned ‘products’ could sell for. Sweet Anita asks about underwear pricing My mods are trying to convince me that I could actually SELL my used sanitary items, dirty socks, underwear, even a tissue I’d blown my nose with. I legitimately don’t think I’d make £2. They think someone would pay £5000, please tell them they are wrong.😣— Sweet Anita (@sweetanita) October 20, 2021 As you can see in her tweet, Anita is somewhat confused by the entire prospect. Referencing the intimate items, she polled Twitter: “I legitimately don’t think I’d make £2. They think someone would pay £5,000, please tell them they are wrong.” At the time of writing, the internet has a fairly firm opinion on the matter. With a whopping 78.6% majority, people agree with the mods that Anita’s used and dirty items could sell for thousands of pounds. I voted “you are right”, by accident. Just for the record, I firmly believe that there are plenty of people out there who’d pay for that stuff. People literally bought Belle Delphine’s bath water for Christ’s sake. — Opening_Credits (@LukeAnd71337187) October 20, 2021 In the replies, people were quick to let Anita know that her mods were right and that the precedent is there. Unsurprisingly, Belle Delphine’s bath water strategy was quickly brought up as proof of concept. For the moment, though, Sweet Anita hasn’t committed to the idea. So her 330,000-plus Twitter followers will just have to wait and see if the underwear side hustle ever becomes reality.

Twitch streamer Super pleads for help after YouTube channel hacked in crypto scam Pixabay/Blizzard EntertainmentPopular Twitch streamer and former Overwatch League pro Matthew ‘Super’ DeLisi was the latest victim of hackers taking control of YouTube channels to promote Elon Musk cryptocurrency scams. In the past few months, many Twitch streamers and YouTubers have had their accounts hijacked to push crypto scams with little being done to stop the continued attacks. On May 4, Super’s YouTube channel was taken over by hackers, who changed the name of the page to “Ark Invest,” and began broadcasting a fake Elon Musk Bitcoin conference. News of the hack caught the streamer off-guard who voiced his frustration on social media, pleading for YouTube to get his account back under his control. Hackers take over Super’s YouTube account “My YouTube is somehow hacked. If you see some channel named ‘Ark Invest’ OR ‘Sapphire Plugin,’ these are my channels,” the tank main said. “I don’t know how this happened or what to do. YouTubeCreators, please help me.” The streamer further added that he had two-factor authentication enabled and had it on his account since 2015. “They got access some other way,” he explained. They got access some other way. — Matthew DeLisi (@supertf) May 4, 2022 A few hours later, the Elon Musk broadcast had stopped, along with every video on Super’s channel being pulled. It’s not clear if they were deleted or just unlisted. Despite the hackers using the name Ark Invest, the company has claimed they had nothing to do with the attack. Back in January, they addressed that some channels had been taken over. ARK is aware of hacked third-party YouTube channels fraudulently posing as ARK &/or Cathie Wood. These accounts are impersonators & not affiliated with ARK or Cathie Wood in any way. ARK Invest will never use social media to solicit money, including cryptocurrency. Please report! — ARK Invest (@ARKInvest) January 21, 2022 “These accounts are impersonators & not affiliated with ARK… ARK Invest will never use social media to solicit money, including cryptocurrency.” It’s unknown if there is a group responsible for the hacks or one individual, but it seems like no one is off-limits. Last month, late streamer Byron ‘Reckful’ Bernstein had his channel taken over before being restored.

  • Twitch streamer allegedly suspended after mass reports from obsessed fan – Dexerto

Twitch streamer allegedly suspended after mass reports from obsessed fan A Twitch streamer is begging the platform to reverse his ban after a disgruntled player mass reported him after being denied a game of League of Legends with the broadcaster. While being a popular Twitch streamer can undoubtedly have its perks, it’s not always a cakewalk, as broadcaster “Ataras” found out in late November. Although many online personalities boast positive and supportive communities, their fame can come with a price, with obsessive fans stalking, harassing, and even attempting to ruin streamers’ livelihoods based on perceived slights. Ataras was the victim of one such obsessed fan, who had a unique (and headache-inducing) way of showing their rage. Rather than sending mere hate mail, Ataras’ fan created a slew of burner Twitch accounts and mass reported his channel, after allegedly being denied a game of LoL with the broadcaster and later being banned in his chat. someone on reddit asked to post the suspension email so hereee it is pic.twitter.com/IzHb9zwxS3 — Atahan (@At_Tar_Ras) November 29, 2019 Ataras posted a series of Discord screenshots from his conversation with the fan, who admitted to the offense and even claimed to have made “a ton” of accounts with “random” names to report him. That’s not all: the fan even took to his YouTube channel and left threatening comments, writing, “I can do this over and over again,” and, “How does it feel to get banned on Twitch, kid?” . @Twitch @TwitchSupport I banned someone in my stream for stream sniping in my league of legends game and he retaliated to that by making false accounts to mass report my channel and he ACTUALLY got me SUSPENDED FOR 14 DAYS. pic.twitter.com/R6ZIuixaOD — Atahan (@At_Tar_Ras) November 25, 2019 That wasn’t the end of the drama, either, as Ataras managed to get on a voice call with the fan to try and reason with them – but it didn’t end in a positive compromise. “I want you to say that you’re not gonna mess with me anymore,” Ataras pleaded. “You’re not gonna report my s*** again.” “On one condition,” the fan answered. “You gotta play with me.” THIS IS THE GUY THAT GOT ME SUSPENDED. HE THREATENED TO REPORT ME AGAIN AND IM FUCKING SCARED MAN @Twitch @TwitchSupport IF I ALREADY GOT SUSPENDED THE FIRST TIME WHEN I DIDN’T BREAK ANY RULES, HOW DO I KNOW IT WONT HAPPEN AGAIN ?!!?!? HELP ?!?!?!?!?!? pic.twitter.com/KJcQtflLAp — Atahan (@At_Tar_Ras) November 29, 2019 Another conversation with the fan revealed him to be homeschooled, with Ataras begging the fan to receive help for his apparent distress and loneliness. Still, it doesn’t look like the fan is budging – and neither is his ban, as Ataras’ channel is suspended for 14 days in the wake of the drama. With top streamers like “Sweet Anita” being stalked by obsessive fans, Ataras’ situation marks the latest concerning event in the ongoing struggle of online personalities to retain their privacy in an ever-increasingly social world.

  • Twitch streamer stuns Ninja with no-handed drawing of his logo – Dexerto

Twitch streamer stuns Ninja with no-handed drawing of his logo Blink VII, Instagram / Ninja, TwitchIt’s no secret that Fortnite Battle Royale pro Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins is one of the most popular internet personalities to date – but he isn’t the only content creator dropping jaws with his skills. Twitch streamer, YouTuber, and artist ‘Blink VII’ might not be at Ninja’s level of fame just yet, but he’s turning heads, nonetheless, thanks to his status as a “no-handed gamer.” Blink VII has uploaded a slew of videos to his YouTube channel hitting trickshots and making insane plays in Fortnite Battle Royale – all the more impressive, considering the content creator is without hands. 600https://www.instagram.com/p/BwNo-HQliNa/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_linkWhile many of Blink’s videos include games with such pros as FaZe Mew and FaZe Linkzy, he isn’t one to forget Fortnite BR legend Ninja, and even uploaded a time-lapse video of himself drawing a near-perfect rendition of the Twitch star’s logo in spite of his disability. Ninja took notice of Blink’s drawing and retweeted the video, apparently in awe of Blink’s skills, as evidenced by his accompanying caption. “How is this even possible,” Ninja wrote. “Incredible, man.” Ninja wasn’t the only one floored by Blink’s artwork, either; fans across the net sounded off in awe of the drawing, largely echoing Ninja’s sentiments, with some calling Blink a “legend” or dubbing his art “wild” and “insane.” Ninja wouldn’t be the first Fortnite Battle Royale pro Blink has honored with a drawing, either; the content creator likewise drew FaZe Avxry’s logo in late March, much to Avxry’s gratitude, who called Blink “an inspiration” for his artwork. Blink’s talents have earned him a substantial online following, with the eighteen-year-old boasting over 200,000 YouTube subscribers and over 50,000 followers on his Twitch channel as of May 29. Blink wouldn’t be the first person to tackle competitive gaming with a disability, either; Street Fighter V pro Mike ‘Brolylegs’ Begum has likewise made waves in the gaming scene, taking heads left and right by using his mouth to operate handheld controllers – a major feat, considering the strict timing and multi-directional inputs required by fighting games. Both Blink and Brolylegs are major inspirations to the gaming community, as their efforts show that anyone can do great things, no matter what hand life deals them.

Twitch streamer suddenly banned after hacker takes over channel Instagram: odavyjonesTwitch streamer DavyJones was suddenly banned from the platform after a hacker took over and was broadcasting on his channel. Since its launch in 2011, Twitch has taken over the internet as the top livestreaming platform with millions of creators taking to the platform each year. However, its popularity has also made it prone to various types of attacks, including the occasional stream takeover by a “hacker.” Twitch streamer DavyJones is the latest to deal with an attack, having been banned from the site after someone managed to take over his broadcast. DavyJones responds after hacker takes over Twitch channel Shortly after the hack, Davy took to his Twitter page to share the news that his channel had been hacked, and he couldn’t end the hackers’ broadcast. “Hey guys, so yes, my twitch was hacked but I’ve already regained access but unfortunately I can’t end the hacker’s live, I need help from Twitch. We’ve already sent a message but they haven’t responded yet, we’re waiting,” he said in his first post according to Twitter/X translate. He was banned just a few hours later and shared that he’s actively working on getting unbanned. “Calm down guys, lol, this was because my account was hacked, we are already resolving it with Twitch, I’ll be right back,” he said. • Twitch streamer stunned as notorious donator reclaims thousands for malicious reasons – Dexerto

Twitch streamer stunned as notorious donator reclaims thousands for malicious reasons Jordyx3, Twitch / UnsplashTwitch streamers can earn money through donations on the platform, but a recent exchange between Jordyx3 and a donator shows just how cruel it can be when players decide to take that money back through PayPal. The full-time broadcaster, who can often be seen playing Fortnite Battle Royale, was delighted to see that one of his regular viewers, ChubaPapi21, had received a total of $5,100 to him across four separate donations. Presuming that the user was enjoying his content, as most streamers would expect, Jordyx3 was alarmed when he noticed that the payments were being challenged by a PayPal chargeback six months later. Confused by what was happening, the gamer tried to reach out to the donator by searching for his social media accounts, only to find out that they had all been deleted. However, this wasn’t the last Jordy heard from the donator. He reappeared during another one of his streams under a new name, claiming to have plotted everything that happened to cause “hurt.” It really sucks that stuff like this can still happen in 2019. You hate to see it man… pic.twitter.com/oMnyeqgRTn — Jordyx3 (@Jordyx3_) April 10, 2019 He revealed that he had done it to “hurt people around you, your viewers [and] streamer’s viewers,” which wasn’t what the streamer had expected at all, initially speculating that the donator may have been in some financial trouble. That wasn’t the case. ChubaPapi21 then changed their name to Stefansandan on Twitch and spoke openly about their reasons for refunding the payment, according to screenshots posted to Jordy’s Twitter account. According to the streamer, it only took two hours for him to get his money back. However, not all broadcasters on Twitch facing similar problems will be as lucky.

  • Twitch streamer stunned after getting worst luck ever in Minecraft – Dexerto

Twitch streamer stunned after getting worst luck ever in Minecraft Twitter: kngshuffu/MinecraftTwitch streamer KingShuffu rode the ultimate rollercoaster of emotions during his Minecraft save as he survived a lucky fall, only to encounter a deadly foe. Despite releasing back in 2009, Minecraft has seen a surge in popularity in recent weeks – with everyone from Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg and numerous Twitch streamers getting in on the sandbox action with Minecraft Monday. Yet, despite having a cheerful backdrop, the game can also provide the highest of highs and lowest of lows as it throws up plenty of twists of turns. It was something KingShuffu experienced as he thought he had a lucky escape, only to meet an explosive end. During his August 24 stream, KingShuffu was minding his own business – taking some time out to dig through his mine and discuss his digging strategy with viewers. However, instead of brightening up his surroundings, the streamer ventured into the darkness, falling from a great height and thumping the ground next to a pool of lava. He was left lucky, however, as he remained with half a heart and didn’t die. Things seemed to get even better as he looked up and discovered a vein of diamond ore. “Oh shit!” he called out in celebration, before stepping away from the keyboard. However, that proved to be a fatal mistake as a Creeper followed his earlier drop and exploded right on top of him – killing him, and end the game. “Oh no!” KingShuffu yelled as he realized what had happened – before punching his bed in disbelief. “Fuck! Oh my God. Are you fucking kidding?” he asked, completely stunned by what had just unfolded. The hilarity of the clip quickly sent it viral, gaining thousands of upvotes across a number of subreddits and picking up over 39,000 retweets on the streamer’s Twitter account. Despite his misfortune, KingShuffu couldn’t help but use it to plug his own stream and see the funny side of things. “A lot happening on my timeline rn and I thank each and every one of you, just wanna say Fuck the Creepers,” he tweeted, before following it up with: “Honestly glad my inexperience and downfall could give people some laughs lmao.” Honestly glad my inexperience and downfall could give people some laughs lmao — Milkman (@KngShuffu) August 25, 2019 As the streamer was operating with a hardcore save, the death ended his save on the most unfortunate of circumstances. Whether or not he’ll make a return to the block realm is up in the air, but it might take a little while to get over the heartbreak of such bad luck.

  • Twitch streamer stunned after innocent dog emote gets blocked – Dexerto

Twitch streamer stunned after innocent dog emote gets blocked Twitch / Twitter: DekuA Twitch streamer named Deku was stunned after an innocent dog emote was flagged as sexual content and blocked from the platform. Twitch emotes are a big part of the platform’s culture. However, they’ve also been embroiled in controversy, including some that Twitch has flagged as “sexual content” pursuant to their community guidelines. They don’t always get it right, though — at least, not according to the Twitch streamers who use them. For example, Meowriianne called out Twitch for flagging a cartoon mushroom in a hot tub as “sexual content.” Similarly, NymN was shocked that Twitch banned an emote on his channel that showed a cartoon character’s eyes popping out of its head, which is an age-old trope in cartoons that dates back almost a century. On May 3, Deku reported that it had happened again. Deku has an emote that she believes quite clearly depicts a cartoon dog dancing. However, Twitch flagged it as sexual content and banned it from her channel. “There is no way this is sexual content,” she said in response to the ruling. Read More: Top 10 most viewed Twitch streamers – “A dog dancing is sexual content. WTF? Twitch really said, ‘Yeah, we will allow half-naked women on Twitch licking ear microphones, but a dancing dog wagging his tail is way too far!’” There is no way this is sexual content @Twitch ??? A dog dancing … is sexual content wtf pic.twitter.com/nI8jwOm35p — Deku (@DpsDeku) May 3, 2022 Twitch explained the reasoning behind their decision, describing it as: “Imagery of sexual content or nudity i.e., “Gasm”-style emotes which contained sexualized torsos or bodily fluids, animated images of buttocks.” Deku said if Twitch rejected her appeal to unban the emote, she’d find a way around it one way or another. “You did this to yourselves, Twitch. I’m going to have this emote on my page whether you want it or not!”

  • Twitch streamer left stunned after being banned over an approved emote – Dexerto

Twitch streamer left stunned after being banned over an approved emote TwitchHaving streamed from his account for over five years, Twitch partner ‘Kordell’ was completely shocked to learn that he was suddenly banned due to previously approved emotes. Typically, streamers on Twitch get banned for violating the community guidelines and engaging in some questionable activities while live. From broadcasting explicit material to creating works of art that toe the line between safe for work and not, there’s often a relatively understandable reason behind most bans on the platform. That has not been the case for ‘Kordell’ however as he was recently notified of his Twitch account being banned by absolutely no fault of his own. Having received an email from Twitch on January 22, Kordell was made aware of an indefinite suspension to his account as a result of supposedly violating the community guidelines through the emotes or ‘cheermotes’ on his channel. The cause of the controversy appears to stem from various emotes that were previously approved and implemented on Twitch. With the account being over five years old, the streamer explained how they had never even received so much as a warning. Further adding to the confusion, Twitch failed to address exactly which emote or emotes were responsible for the violation and subsequent ban. “I got perma-banned on twitch for an emote they approved without being told which one and have yet to receive any type of reply from support,” he said. https://twitter.com/koordell/status/1220157581714436098 As outlined in the official Twitch Subscriber Emoticon Guide for Partners and Affiliates, those that are “in good standing” on the platform “will have their emoticons automatically approved.” Conversely, if a Twitch Partner is not in good standing, their emoticons will need to be approved through a manual process. It’s unclear whether Kordell was in good standing at the time in which his emotes were implemented on Twitch, or if an employee manually approved them after review. Having each been permitted over the past few weeks however, the ban has certainly come as a shock to the streamer who was under the notion that everything he submitted was in line with Twitch standards. Here’s all of them being approved, also I’ve had that account for over 5 years and not a single warning was ever given to me. pic.twitter.com/emUi2mLBFd — kordell (@koordell) January 23, 2020 More and more of the most popular content creators have been parting ways with the Amazon-owned streaming platform of late. While many prefer the freedom that other services afford, perhaps the lack of communication and often puzzling decisions such as this ban, have been significant factors for those seeking new homes.

  • Twitch streamer stunned after failed advert calendar opening – Dexerto

Twitch streamer stunned after failed advert calendar opening Twitch streamer ‘Knightenator’ excitedly opened an advent calendar during a stream, however, things did not go as planned. Knightenator is a Twitch In-Real-Life [IRL] and Runescape streamer that’s made a name for herself thanks to her entertaining and creative content. Her streams usually feature some kind of IRL event, such as a chat with fans or grabbing something to eat. As we’re now heading into the holiday season, she decided to get festive and crack open her advent calendar, only to be massively disappointed with its contents, or lack therof. The British steamer’s broadcast kicked off with the usual IRL session, but this time she was wearing a Santa hat and getting into the festive spirit. After a short chat about Christmas she excitedly reached for her advent calendar, announcing that she would open one section per day at the end of her streams, then one random subscriber would win whatever was in that day’s section. Later as her stream was coming to an end and she once again picked up her advent calendar and pried open the first day’s section as Christmas music played in the background, and her viewers waited with baited breath. “I feel so Christmassy!” she yelled as she opened the calendar. Once it was fully opened though, Knightenator’s face dropped in disappointment, as she showed the camera that there was nothing in it! “I said I thought it felt empty” she said before taking a brief pause and yelling once again – “there’s actually nothing in here… there’s nothing in any of these!!” Some fans suggested that this advent calendar could be one that comes empty and needs to be filled with presents and given to someone else, but she wasn’t having any of it. Went out to try and get my advent calendar (again) today. Sold out again. 😢 Pls chuck chocolate in my general direction.🍫 ALSO GOIN’ LIVE 🔴LINK IN BIO. pic.twitter.com/pp2VbYGt7b— Knightenator (@Knightenator) December 3, 2019 In the end, Knightenator apologized to her viewers for the disappointing result and promised she would go out to find another advent calendar, this time with things inside it. As of writing, she hasn’t been able to get a new one as they are sold out. Hopefully, she’ll be able to open an advent calendar with her stream before the holidays are over.

During that stream, she had also raised over $10,000 for charity. On April 11, she was banned once again — strangely enough for wearing a cosplay she’s shown on stream before. In the past, streamers such as Trainwreck have called STPeach “shameless” for her content, but she also has a great number of fans and support from both viewers and fellow streamers alike. Now that we know the reason for the ban was something she’s featured on stream before, and that it’s only for a few days, fans will no doubt be wondering why Twitch only now decided to do something.

  • Twitch streamer STPeach quits “lewd” content for her mental health and relationships – Dexerto

Twitch streamer STPeach quits “lewd” content for her mental health and relationships Twitch: STPeachPopular Twitch streamer STPeach has announced and explained her decision to quit content creation on what she calls “lewd” platforms, such as OnlyFans, citing issues with her mental health and relationships with friends and family. STPeach has been a big name in streaming for the better part of a decade, finding popularity as early as 2016 and 2017 on Twitch. Her content has often been considered more on the “lewd” side, as although she plays games on stream, her outfits are often revealing, which have led to various bans on her account. In 2022, she was banned twice, both for cosplay outfits that Twitch deemed too revealing to be worn on the platform. STPeach quits “lewd” content creation STPeach had already stopped producing this content in 2023, but chose to address it on August 3, explaining the reason for her decision. “Decided to address this more publicly since people keep asking but I have quit doing the more lewd platforms,” she said. “Deciding to step away was a hard decision but my mental health, happiness, relationships with family, friends and god, have felt so much better after quitting.” The streamer concluded, “Thankful for the opportunities that It has given but I’m happy with my decision, hopefully you all understand.” Comments from fans and fellow streamers were generally supportive of her decision. Content creator Charlotte Winslow said, “So proud of you!”, while others said that mental health comes first, and that she should do what makes her happy. STPeach has also been streaming less on Twitch in recent weeks, with only one stream in the past week at the time of writing. She remains one of the most popular female streamers on the platform though in terms of follower count, with over 1 million.

Twitch streamer STPeach announces pregnancy with husband Jay Chae Twitch: STPeachTwitch streamer STPeach has revealed she is expecting her first child with her husband, Jay Chae, garnering attention from “pissed-off incels”. Lisa Vannatta, who goes by ‘STPeach’ on Twitch, has amassed over 1.2 million followers on the platform. She is known for gaming streams in which she is dressed in revealing cosplay — something that has previously resulted in various account bans. Earlier this year in August, STPeach announced that she had decided to quit content creation for “lewd” platforms, such as OnlyFans. The streamer said her “Mental health, happiness, relationships with family, friends, and God” had all improved since the decision. Nearly two months later a second big announcement has been made: STPeach is expecting her first child with her husband, Jay Chae. Apologizing for her recent absence from Twitch on stream, STPeach shared the news by sneakily asking her viewers if they wanted to see a “new overlay” she had made. The overlay then popped up, reading “We’re pregnant” and “Baby coming April 2024”. Chae held up photos of the couple’s ultrasound, with STPeach admitting “It’s been so hard keeping this secret”. The gender of the child is currently unknown, STPeach telling viewers, “We find out on Sunday.” The announcement was also made on Twitter, where many fans rushed to congratulate the happy couple. However, not all reactions to the announcement were positive. A Reddit thread surrounding the news attracted “pissed-off incels”, with one person writing, “Somebody needs to break out the horny hose and give the comment section a soaking, Jesus Christ.” We wish the couple all the best for their journey into parenthood. Squid Game is a Korean thriller, which debuted on Netflix in 2021 and very quickly became a smash hit, breaking Netflix records for viewership. Halloween 2021 was taken over by people dressing up as various characters from the show. However, for one rather unlucky content creator, the name of show matches exactly the name of their Twitch account, where they are a partnered streamer. SquidGame, real name Lydia, has over 40,000 followers on the platform and is a member of Yogscast. In October, Lydia’s Instagram account, also called ‘SquidGame’, was banned, after it was mass-reported, presumably by fans of the Netflix show. SquidGame streamer loses work over name On November 2, SquidGame explained that the conflict with the Netflix show’s name was causing her to lose out on work opportunities. “Looks like I might have to change my handle after all,” SquidGame tweeted. “I’ve lost 2 amazing presenting opportunities because people don’t want to hire me with my ‘squid game’ handle.” Looks like I might have to change my handle after all. I’ve lost 2 amazing presenting opportunities because people don’t want to hire me with my “”squid game”” handle. This is really getting me down now. — Lydia (@SquidGaming) November 2, 2021 Despite her Instagram account being reinstated, and Twitch appearing to have no problem with her channel’s username, the confusion is bound to keep causing problems. “First I get sent abuse, then I get banned, now I’m losing out on work,” SquidGame explained. Lots of lovely people suggesting complaining etc, but who do I even talk to about this? Who would I email? I have literally no idea whatsoever 😅 — Lydia (@SquidGaming) November 2, 2021 There have been other cases of content creators having matching names to other IPs, such as the streamer Steven ‘Destiny’ Bonnell and the Bungie video game franchise ‘Destiny’. However, Squid Game’s unlikely matching name is remarkably specific, and so is bound to be met with confusion from now on, given the popularity of the show. On the other hand, the name may also have some small benefits – with users potentially stumbling upon Squid Game’s Twitch or YouTube content, and sticking around. Squid Game has even embraced the memes, cosplaying as characters from the show on her stream.

  • Twitch streamer speechless after Hasan calls out her thirsty comment – Dexerto

Twitch streamer speechless after Hasan calls out her thirsty comment Twitch: HasanAbiTwitch streamer Bratgorian was left red-faced by fellow content creator Hasan Piker after he read out Bratgorian’s simping comments about him. We’ve all got a handful of streamers that we greatly admire, and in the case of Hasan, many of his fans don’t hesitate to show their appreciation through Twitch comments. Though most comments are complimenting Hasan’s content, Twitch streamer Azure aka Bratgorian directed her praise at his appearance instead. However, Bratgorian got the shock of her life when Hasan caught wind of her hilarious comment on stream. Hasan embarrasses Twitch streamer Bratgorian after reading simp comment While Hasan was observing the 2022 U.S midterm elections on his Twitch channel, streamer Bratgorian decided to show her appreciation for an equally important aspect: Hasan’s outfit. Despite the serious nature of the feed Hasan was viewing, Bratgorian decided to take a chance on leaving an impression on him. “Hasan you look so hot in that color green, I would let you hold me at gunpoint,” said Bratgorian. Visually perplexed by Bratgorian’s comment, Hasan said “okay, that person should not be allowed to vote.” Erupting in a fit of embarrassed laughter, all Bratgorian could muster was “that was the comment! that was the comment!” The unexpected moment happened during the Bratgorian’s “first 5-hour stream” too, which was intended to boost her audience as an upcoming content creator. Hasan himself has been vocal about the state of commenting on streaming platforms. Having streamed on Twitch for several years, Hasan has considered making the leap to YouTube – but only if they improve their “chat culture.” With comments like Bratgorian’s, the wait for Hasan to switch to YouTube might be a lengthy one.

  • Twitch streamer spends all day drinking a gallon of water with a fork – Dexerto

Twitch streamer spends all day drinking a gallon of water with a fork Twitch: ExtraEmilyA Twitch streamer spent all day attempting to drink a full gallon of water using one of the worst methods possible, scooping it out with a fork. The internet is full of wild and wacky things, from NPC streams on TikTok to gnarly and disturbing clips on Reddit, you never know what you’ll stumble across in the online world. Twitch is no stranger to weird things either, with the streaming colossus being home to many uncanny metas, including ones featuring hot tubs and censor bars. Oftentimes the weirder the content, the more viewers are drawn in, allowing streamers to gain massive followings by partaking in these trends. A more recent trend that has sprouted across the internet for who knows what reason is the fork and water trend. This fascinating internet sensation sees users take on the ultimate challenge, of drinking water with the least efficient tool possible, a fork. Recently Twitch star ExtraEmily completed the challenge, spending almost 7 hours on the grind. Emily, who is a part of streaming network OTK is known for some of her more whacky challenges. The streamer has attempted to raft at a skate park, tie themselves to a wall, and much more, all in the name of exceedingly entertaining content. Arguably the most bold of challenges, the content creator spent the entirety of a stream watching and reacting to clips, whilst slowly chowing down on H2O with a fork. The arduous journey took almost 7 hours, with the final time clocking at 6 hours and 50 minutes. Excitedly, both Emily and her chat were amazed at her achievement, with the streamer checking the canister and flipping it upside down to prove her legitimacy.

  • Twitch streamer speaks out after receiving “lowest ever” payout amid platform changes – Dexerto

Twitch streamer speaks out after receiving “lowest ever” payout amid platform changes Unsplash.com: rupiexen.com / Twitter: babywock_Twitch Partners and Affiliates across the platform have been experiencing extremely low payouts from the site amid ongoing changes that have sparked backlash from streamers. We spoke with streamer ‘Babywock’ about the issue, and why he believes Twitch needs to get in touch with its community now more than ever. Twitch is the internet’s premier destination for streaming live content of all kinds — be it traveling abroad, broadcasting esports tournaments, or even hosting award shows. However, many streamers and viewers are looking toward other platforms like Kick and YouTube to suit their broadcasting needs as Twitch continues to introduce new policies that have incited mass backlash from users over the past few weeks. To summarize, the recent outrage against Twitch first sparked on June 6, when the site introduced proposed changes to branded content on its platform. These restrictions would have prohibited “burned in” video, audio, and display ads which… didn’t go over well with broadcasters. Twitch eventually removed these new guidelines and its CEO apologized for the ordeal — but that wasn’t the end of the site’s issues. Twitch also introduced changes to its Terms of Service that have banned multi-streaming on “Twitch-like” platforms, putting another damper on the ways creators can expand their revenue. Now, Twitch is in hot water yet again as the platform has brought back its coveted 70/30 subscriber split in a new Partner Plus program… but the hefty requirements for receiving said split haven’t gone over well, either. Twitch streamers report lower payouts amid platform changes In the midst of this, a slew of both Partnered and Affiliated streamers have noticed that their subscriber payouts were unusually low this month. We spoke with one of these broadcasters, who created a viral tweet calling out the platform over this unexplained issue — and ended up receiving a ton of testimonials from other creators experiencing the same problem. “I saw one number, and then what I got was like nowhere near [what I expected],” Partnered Twitch streamer Babywock told us. “So I was like, ‘Oh. Something must have gone into effect.’ But it’s not only just affecting Partners, it’s also affecting Affiliates. So, that’s where I was concerned. I was like, ‘This is not even a Partner problem. This is a community problem.’” Although Babywock is coming off of a 150-day, 24-hour stream, and has spent the past several weeks moving to Texas and building a new setup, he was prepared for lower numbers… but not the ones he saw on his most recent payout. “Yes, I dropped from 4,000 subs to a thousand subs, but I’ve been streaming for a year and a half. I know what a thousand subs is,” he clarified. “It’s never different. So in my head I’m like, ‘Okay, boom, this is gonna come.’ Even though I haven’t streamed in a month, I still have an amazing community. I have people gifting me 10 subs a day, even though I’m not there. But I’m still active in my community. I’m on Twitter, I’m on, I’m in Discord 24-7.” “So, to see what’s supposed to be roughly over a grand be under $700 is insane.” Babywock wasn’t the only streamer apparently impacted by lower payouts, by far. A slew of other broadcasters had similar complaints, with one streamer even claiming she got a negative payout — possibly as a result of a few chargebacks on top of an already lower income than expected. i had to take a little break from stream and went to check my rev at the beginning of the month… it was negative… i’ve been streaming for like a year & a half and have never had this happen, or at least never noticed it. pay attention guys. sad times. 🥺 pic.twitter.com/ab906yCe2R — kitty venom (@kittyvenom) June 15, 2023 “I felt penalized,” Babywock admitted. “It’s like, wow. I’m doing it right. You know, I’m bringing people to your platform. Catching that energy. You know, you’ll have me on recommended and more people will find me, love my energy, and then whatever happens from there, happens from there.” Twitch streamer “hurt” after low payout goes unexplained For Babywock, the issue hits home, as he has lauded Twitch far and wide as a good place to stream — even complimenting the platform amid backlash on its 50/50 subscriber split in an interview with the New York Times last year. “I feel hurt,” he continued. “Definitely hurt. Like I said, I put [out] a lot of love, so a portion of my Twitch subs go to other streamers — but that’s a deal that I made with myself before I was even a streamer. That’s how I’ve always moved across the platform.” As for what’s causing these low payouts? Dexerto reached out to Twitch for clarification on the matter, but was told they could not comment on the subject due to “privacy reasons.” However, Babywock believes this might have been an issue stemming from the site’s 50/50 sub split, which was introduced in 2022. “So for partners, I know that Twitch told us a long time ago that it was gonna go to 50/50,” he explained. “But nobody really knew when. I guess that was the thing — I thought some partners already were under the 50/50 program because of how many people were complaining about it. You know, I’m getting told they were already getting hit.” “So, I’m guessing that now it’s going into effect. I had to assume I’ve been getting the 70/30 the whole time, you know, and now [I’m getting the 50/50 payout.]” How can Twitch fix its problems? Streamers say communication is a must There’s a lot of ire surrounding Twitch right now, but how can the site fix things? Babywock suggests that the platform needs a dedicated community spokesperson and feels like the platform’s creators are simply left in the dark. “I think they should listen to the community more about what’s going on,” he said. “Because with everything going on with Kick, I feel like this is an L on their part, you know?” “I don’t know if there is even a spokesperson who is reaching out. I just feel like if you’re not averaging over 5,000 viewers, people don’t really don’t care about you. Just having a spokesperson for the people who are down here or who actually have concerns, that would be amazing.” Though he’s been on the platform for years, Babywock was clearly frustrated with the lack of communication from Twitch. Especially for creators of his size that are making decent money and have a solid following but aren’t pulling tens of thousands of viewers. “I feel like they don’t have enough resources for the people still trying to come up. I don’t even wanna say the bottom, because everybody has to start somewhere, you know? …A spokesperson would be amazing, you know, just for the people still coming up, too.” In fact, Babywock claimed that he might even start streaming on Kick part-time as a result of his lowered income… especially given that the competitor site boasts an attractive 95/5 subscriber split with streamers. He feels that he won’t be the only one looking to jump ship either now that Twitch has implemented its controversial new Partner Plus program. And, with a massive creator like xQc recently announcing that he’s making the switch to Kick, creators of all sizes are eyeing Twitch’s competitor in the wake of recent actions from the platform that clearly haven’t landed with the streamers that keep it alive. “I think Partner Plus is gonna create a riot,” he revealed. “It’s not sinking into the Partners yet, but they’re gonna riot. There’s gonna be a rebellion. There has to be.” Babywock is just one of many streamers left frustrated and confused by the plethora of new changes Twitch is seemingly rolling out one after the other. Although CEO Dan Clancy has been somewhat open with users, it looks like more and more broadcasters are considering making the leap to other platforms — and only time will tell if Twitch will be able to maintain its status as the premier live streaming destination.

  • Twitch streamer speechless after being baited into classic web browser prank – Dexerto

Twitch streamer speechless after being baited into classic web browser prank A Twitch streamer was left speechless after taking on a dare from his chat went horribly wrong, and they baited him into a web browser prank instead. The interaction between Twitch personalities and their chat is one the most important parts of streaming, as building an engaging relationship is what keeps viewers coming back for more. However, time and time again, streamers have learned the hard way that there will always be those using the “live” aspect to their advantage, where pulling pranks is too easy to resist. From classic donation name pranks, to tricking people to opening risque links, trolls have many tricks up their sleeves. A Twitch partner was an example of this when a dare turned into a hilarious web browser history mishap. Streamer’s chat baits him into revealing Bbrowser history StarCraft 2 streamer ‘special_‘ was in the middle of his broadcast, when someone in his chat dared him to type ‘por’ into his web browser, which caught the attention of the personality. “Type por in your browser? You dare me? Okay, let’s see what happens when I put that in my browser,” he said, taking on the dare from the devious member of his audience. “Let’s see… por…” he read out loud, as he typed it into his web browser, which then instantly filled in with an adult content website. The streamer was shocked, and quickly closed out of his browser in embarrassment. The prank appeared to reveal the streamer’s web browser history which left him temporarily speechless, before he laughed and exclaimed, “That was a link, I promise! It’s okay, I promise someone linked that!” He continued to laugh off the incident. “Okay, someone linked me that. So I clicked it by mistake!” he said, as he explained why the risque site content autofilled into his browser. Which to be fair, clicking a link by accident would add it to your browser history. Despite the unexpected moment, the StarCraft player was able to laugh the whole thing off, and continued to his broadcast not letting the moment phase him. The Twitch personality shouldn’t feel too bad though, as the very nature of broadcasts being live to the world means that there will always be someone out there trying to take advantage of the moment. Most streamers have been there before, and have fallen for the same kind of pranks in one form or another. If nothing else, it’s a lesson to not always give the chat what they want, as they could be setting you up.

  • Twitch streamer sparks debate after ‘down bad’ fan pays $2,000 for gaming session – Dexerto

Twitch streamer sparks debate after ‘down bad’ fan pays $2,000 for gaming session Twitter/poutyrinA Twitch streamer has gone viral for posting screenshots of a conversation with one of her viewers where he offered to pay $2,000 to game with his “Goddess.” It’s not uncommon to see Twitch viewers go to absurd lengths so streamers will notice them, but one has taken things to an extreme new level after sending a streamer two grand to play Riot Games’ FPS Valorant with them. On May 30, Twitch streamer PoutyRin revealed she was sent a message on Discord from a fan who asked her how much it would cost to play a couple of games. After joking that she’d accept $2,000 in return, the viewer stunned her by actually agreeing to pay it, claiming he’d only do so in order to play with a “Goddess.” Sure enough, he ended up sending the money and Twitter users could hardly contain their disbelief. Twitch viewers baffled after fan pays $2K to game with streamer Right after posting, fans began debating the easy money with some claiming women have it “easier” while others insisted that PoutyRin return the cash. “You’re wrong for that. Refund that money and just play with the person. It’s not going to hurt you,” one fan suggested. isaac, here’s the minor flaw, unfortunately you don’t have tits, and what do down bad men want? hot girls with boobs. but as a gay man, if it’s bigger than 5’ i’ll send the money over — ezi0 (@ethandavidx) May 29, 2022 One user began offering up his own gaming duo at just $1,000, prompting another fan to disregard the business venture: “Unfortunately you don’t have t*ts, and what do down bad men want? Hot girls with boobs.” “That dude better be getting the best gaming experience of his life,” another said, causing Rin to reply with a snarky, “I’m going to go negative every game.” It’s not clear if the streamer ended up actually playing with the viewer or if she decided to refund the money, but $2,000 to play a couple of video games is definitely nothing to scoff at.

  • Twitch streamer sparks outrage after showcasing her terrible driving skills – Dexerto

Twitch streamer sparks outrage after showcasing her terrible driving skills kbubblez, Instagram / TheDrive.comThanks to the advent of IRL streaming, Twitch streamers can broadcast their outings and everyday routines for their viewers to take part in – but some streams capture jaw-dropping moments, as evidenced by one streamer’s abhorrent driving skills. Popular Twitch personality Mitch Jones is one such IRL streamer, a popular face in the IRL community who is now recovering from a ban for using his phone while driving. However, he wasn’t the one in the driver’s seat, this time: instead, he broadcasted from the passenger’s seat while fellow streamer Kailey ‘kbubblez’ took the wheel – breaking more than a few traffic laws, in the process. Kbubblez’s driving skills came under fire, after driving during a stream with fellow streamer Mitch Jones.600https://www.instagram.com/p/ByQGfRMAt-R/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Jones was broadcasting his outing with kbubblez when she blew right through a stop sign at a four-way stop, making a right turn heedless of the other car that had stopped before her. That wasn’t the only stop sign mishap kbubblez had, by far; she went on to follow another car out of another four-way stop shortly thereafter, nearly crashing into a car who had the right of way as it made to cross the intersection. “What is this guy fucking doing?” she asked, plowing through the intersection. “I was at the fucking stop sign, asshole.” Kbubblez’s driving debacles continued from there, as she made a last-minute left-hand turn without stopping to pull into the parking lot of a shopping mall – a move that earned some barely-concealed exasperation from Jones. “Oh my god, Kaylee,” he commented. “I would literally rather drive looking at my phone.” “What do you mean?” she asked, just before careening over a speed bump. I’m putting myself and others in danger, and I need to be more responsible.” As many of you can see I’ve been banned from Twitch for a week for looking at my phone while driving I completely agree I’m putting myself and others in danger and I need to be more responsible. Streamers such as xQc and Trainwreck shared their experiences and many more claimed they had received desperate messages from Sliker begging them for money for various reasons. Despite promising to pay them back, multiple creators have been waiting for years for their funds to be repaid. Now, Sliker has confessed to the accusations. He said that he “lied to many people” about borrowing their money and that it was all due to his crippling gambling addiction. Sliker states he “never intended” to scam others In an emotional livestream on September 18, Sliker apologized to his fans and fellow streamers for his actions. As he broke down in tears, he refused to call himself a “victim” and promised to provide viewers with the truth. The Twitch star claimed that it stemmed from his addiction to skins on CS:GO. However, he soon started to gamble with his money instead and things spiralled out of control. “I used to gamble a lot of my money. Basically, all my Twitch money,” Sliker stated. “I would come across streamers and ask them if I could borrow money. I wouldn’t give them the reason obviously. Because it was gambling I would lie to them.” He stressed that he “never intended in scamming anyone” and vowed that he would eventually pay back all those who gave him money. This includes popular gambling streamer Trainwreck who he claimed gave him $100k, but it subsequently caused their friendship to crumble. Praising the claimants for coming forward, Sliker added: “This is what gambling has done for me […] s**t is dangerous. This is the epitome of a f**king gambling addict. I used to lie to my views and say to my views ‘I used to gamble a long time ago’ it was a lie. I used to continuously gamble.” Sliker apologized for his actions and for “borrowing from hard working individuals.” However, he promised that he would “get help” in the future.

The mod was actually very popular in its heyday but slowly lost steam. Now, players and streamers are once again filling up the servers, creating hysterical moments along the way. Though Sodapoppin just started exploring the world of GTA V RP, fans are being caught off-guard by how funny misunderstandings and off-adventures have been unfolding. In one instance Soda’s character called Kevin, was meeting up with his guide named “Speedy,” when a car pulled up. Turns out the people in the car were a part of a rival gang. Guns were immediately pulled out, Speedy got shot, and Soda took of running in a mad panic. Other instances had Soda interacting with the hospital’s caring but condescending doctor, leading to sitcom-level dialogues filled with off-the-cuff misinterpretations. • Twitch streamer Sliker banned after watching Amouranth VICE documentary – Dexerto

Twitch streamer Sliker banned after watching Amouranth VICE documentary Twitch: Sliker / YouTube: ViceTwitch partner Sliker was temporarily banned after watching Amouranth’s new VICE documentary live on stream. Popular streamer Kaitlyn ‘Amouranth’ Siragusa sat down with VICE in December 2021 to make a documentary about her life as an online personality. The 28-year-old discussed her career, including the backlash she has gotten for her ASMR broadcasts. Twitch channels watching the documentary live are receiving bans after the interview covered material that led to Amouranth being banned in the past. Twitch streamer banned for watching Amouranth documentary Twitch partner Sliker was watching Amouranth’s VICE documentary “My Life Online” during his January 1, 2022 stream when his account was abruptly banned for watching the 24-minute clip. While the documentary largely features a sit-down interview with the 28-year-old, the special also has several segments that showcase racy images from her OF account and past streams. According to the email attached, Twitch banned his channel for “Accidental Nudity” and Explicit Content.” While the letter didn’t specify the exact image that triggered the suspension, many viewers speculated that it was from the segment covering Amouranth’s OF account which featured images that violated the site’s TOS. In a follow-up post, Sliker clarified that Twitch had only banned him for 24 hours. Interestingly, fellow streamers Mizkif and Hasan ‘HasanAbi’ Piker also watched the same documentary live in front of viewers. However, it should be pointed out that both of them used moderators to tell them when to skip the offending material. All that said, it does appear that those thinking about watching the special interview live should be careful as it can lead to a suspension. It seems as though just like her ASMR content, Amouranth’s documentary is causing a splash on the streaming platform. On January 2, 2022, Sliker was unbanned.

  • Twitch streamer who slammed $11K donator now banned – Dexerto

Twitch streamer who slammed $11K donator now banned B00BLESXD, Twitch / FreepikA Twitch streamer who accused one of her biggest donators of making comments towards her during a broadcast has now been banned on the platform. While many fans donate smaller amounts to streamers, some enthusiasts take their gratitude to the next level, donating hundreds and even thousands to broadcasters as thanks for their entertainment. One user made a huge donation upwards of $11,000 to Twitch streamer Devon ‘B00BLESXD’ on July 10, along with what’s been described as a sexist and “entitled” remark. The streamer has since been banned, confirming as much on her Twitter account, but there is no indication that the ban comes as a direct result of her rant. “Guys i got banned for my boobs its ok,” she said after being suspended, suggesting that the ban was due to some sort of slip-up rather than her impassioned speech. What happened? Devon received a whopping $11,855 donation from a fan by the name of ‘disruptedorder,’ who she claimed made a slew of sexist comments toward her after appearing on a live show with other female streamers. “He was getting mad at me for the shit I was saying on stream,” she explained. “You know, like saying that [unintelligible] could slam me through a wall sexually, and stuff like that …he’s saying to me: ‘This sl*t shit is unattractive. The cocaine shit is unattractive. Your attitude is shit. You need to grow the fuck up.’” Streamer ‘B00BLESXD’ went on a heated tirade against an entitled donator, who allegedly made sl*t-shaming comments after she appeared on a live show.400https://www.instagram.com/p/BRwPMF7jEhB/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Devon went on to slam the donator for his slut-shaming comments, calling his behavior “entitled” for trying to control her by donating huge amounts of cash. “This is a top donator, by the way,” she continued. “This is not my fucking friend, this is not my fucking boyfriend, this is a guy that donates to my fucking stream and thinks that he’s entitled to shit.” That’s not all: a clip from Devon’s stream shows the donator making comments as she ranted about him, retorting with such quips as, “I don’t give a shit,” and, “Look how crazy this chick is, hahaha.” The donator later claimed that the money he’d donated was part of a “loan” that she didn’t want to pay back after he refused to date her, uploading a series of screenshots showing his conversations with the streamer – although whether or not the conversations are legitimate remains to be seen. Update, 6:43PM, July 10: B00BLESXD has told Dexerto that these screenshots provided by the donator have been “doctored”, claiming they are false. 400https://old.reddit.com/r/LivestreamFail/comments/cbg1e9/top_donator_gets_triggered_over_the_rajjchelor/etg49p9/ While plenty of streamers receive massive donations, those donators don’t get to control their lives: a rule of thumb that was apparently lost on this particular viewer. It’s unknown as to how long the streamer has been banned for on Twitch but, as of the time of writing, her channel is unavailable unless you have a time machine.

  • Twitch streamer slams female viewers for harassing girlfriend – Dexerto

Twitch streamer slams female viewers for harassing girlfriend Instagram/aydannstreams/PexelsAydannStreams has revealed that even smaller Twitch streamers can be the victim of harassment regardless of their gender. On September 11, Aydann exposed a female viewer for going out of her way to target his girlfriend in what appears to be an extreme act of jealousy. For a smaller stream, the chat can be a more intimate experience with the interactions between the streamer and his or her viewers being frequent. And while some relationships between the streamer and viewers can grow, they can also take a dark turn. So I had this new viewer and she’s been dming me, asking if I had a gf and I said yes. I then said who it was in my chat. She’s spent every stream since roasting my girlfriend since, dming her, saying I should end it, etc. Stay out of streamers personal lives. That simple. pic.twitter.com/JwYKfWonmq — Aydann (@AydannStreams) September 12, 2019 Eventually, after a female viewers grew a little too close to Aydann and sent some hurtful messages to his girlfriend, the streamer snapped. According to Aydann, a few viewer started DMing him asking if he had a girlfriend. When he said yes and revealed who it was in his chat, she spent every stream trying to harass her. A lot of people are saying just ban. Trust me, she’s banned. Main reason I posted this video is to show this happens to male streamers as well, just not as often. Based after an @ashnichrist podcast and @CeddyOrNot, I learned that you need to stand up for what’s right. — Aydann (@AydannStreams) September 12, 2019 “You’ve been targeting my girlfriend since you came in here. I don’t want to sound like a dick, but you’re constantly trying to roast her, say she’s rude, ask if she done makeup well” Aydann began. “Dude, I don’t understand why. And you even DM’d her. Don’t DM my girlfriend.” But for his part, despite clearly upset, the upstart entertainer did have some advice for the overly-invested fan. “Don’t go after people’s relationships. Enjoy the content that they create. Don’t be the person that comes in all the time and be like ‘do they love you enough? Are they taking care of you enough? This that’. No. Nuh.” The content creator went on to explain in the replies that the female viewer had been banned and he posted the video to show that this kind of thing happens to male streamers too, just not as often. It most definitely happens to men! Once or twice a month, something like this happens. Women can be just as bad. Ive gotten pictures I DID NOT ask for, weird messages, even finding my personal Facebook. Just because I’m a male, I’m supposed to be okay with it? Hell no.— Aydann (@AydannStreams) September 12, 2019 A lot of people in the comments, including females, praised Aydann for how he handled the situation. One, a mother of two boys, said she wanted to break the stigma that harassment only happens to women. Aydann then revealed that this normally happens once or twice a month and that he recieved pictures he never asked for from women who found his personal Facebook account. It just goes to show that everyone can find themselves in unwanted situations.

Twitch streamer “sick” after mother’s home swatted by trolls Twitch: Kwitty23 / Unsplash.com, Bernie AlmanzarYet another Twitch streamer has become a victim of “swatting” after trolls sent a squad of armed law enforcement officers to his mothers’ home during a broadcast on January 24. [jwplayer QIWQDyD7] ‘Swatting’ is a crime that has risen in prominence over the past few years. Defined as a type of prank call, ‘swatting’ aims to send large amounts of armed law enforcement officers to a person’s home or other location, usually with claims that the target is endangering others. In the past several years, a number of Twitch streamers and high-profile influencers have been victims of swatting — and despite a growing awareness regarding the topic, it continues to pose a significant problem. Twitch streamer ‘Kwitty23’ is an example of this discouraging development. On January 24, the broadcaster revealed that he’d seen a number of messages in his chat from two accounts saying such phrases as “swat,” “look outside,” and “go check out your window before you’re the next reported dead body.” This understandably concerned the streamer, who later discovered that the commenters in question had swatted his old address — the home of his mother, who, instead of Kwitty, had become the target of the swatting. Read More: When is CodeMiko back on Twitch? – That’s not all; the swatters had allegedly told police that “someone from this address said they were going to murder an infant child.” “I thought they were trolls,” Kwitty tweeted of the incident. “Turns out they got a hold of my old address where my mom lives and sent the SWAT team. My mom had guns raised at her. I feel sick to my stomach.” There we’re a few people who came to my channel today during stream yelling “”SWAT”” and “”look outside”” i thought they were trolls, turns out they got a hold of my old address where my mom lives and sent the swat team and my mom had guns raised at her. I feel sick to my stomach. — Kwitty23 aka Kdub (@Kwitty23) January 24, 2021 Kwitty went on to release the names of the accounts who had sounded off in his chat, asking his viewers to report them if possible. Luckily, both Kwitty and his mother are okay, as the broadcaster explained in a Twitlonger posted on January 25. “My mother is ok, just pretty shaken up of course, but we’ve been in contact with the local authorities and they are actively trying to track these individuals down,” he wrote. “We’ve also taken proper measures, so this hopefully wont happen again.” The streamer advised the caller to seek therapy and urged streamers to take whatever measures necessary to protect themselves. Kwitty’s situation comes on the heels of yet another high-profile swatting situation related to YouTuber JoJo Siwa, who was also swatted in wake of her coming out announcement on the weekend of January 22.

  • Twitch streamer skydives in “real life” Warzone for FaZe 5 challenge – Dexerto

Twitch streamer skydives in “real life” Warzone for FaZe 5 challenge Twitter: zogoro/ActivisionSpanish Twitch streamer Zogoro has gone above and beyond in his quest to win the FaZe 5 challenge by taking to the skies and skydiving into a ‘real-life’ version of Call of Duty Warzone. [jwplayer mfcRpjb4] For many content creators, getting the chance to join a huge group like FaZe puts them in the category of having made it. Though, it is typically ultra-difficult to get a spot on such a group. Over the past few years, FaZe has given content creators a chance at joining their collective with the FaZe 5 challenge. For 2020, they made the process simple, fill out an online form and they’d start picking out contenders – with five of these getting a spot in FaZe. However, in a bid to show that they’re dedicated to the cause, some creators have gone above and beyond – creating all kinds of videos to back up their case to join FaZe. Yet, Spanish streamer Zogoro has seemingly blown them all away. On October 28, the Spanish content creator released a video of himself taking on a ‘real-life’ Warzone challenge. That included filming himself running around with a camera attached, making it look like he was playing the battle royale in real life. However, what made him stand out from the pack of entrants who have done similar, is that he didn’t just ‘spawn’ in on the ground. Oh no. Instead, the Spaniard took to the skies and actually skydived like you would when starting a game of Warzone, though, he did have help from a professional to make sure that things went off without any problems. The impressive video, which has racked up a few thousand views at the time of writing, caught the eye of FaZe themselves as they retweeted the video. “When we tell you to do something different, so you jump out of a plane…,” they said, quote tweeting Zogoro’s video for their five million followers to see. When we tell you to do something different, so you jump out of a plane… 🤯 https://t.co/CVOffz7hgE — FaZe Clan (@FaZeClan) October 28, 2020 Given that he’s got FaZe’s attention, the Spaniard could be in the running for one of the top five spots, but we’ll just have to wait and see on that. It shouldn’t be too long before FaZe start announcing the winners anyway, and there should be a few more eye-catching entries.

  • Twitch streamer shows how NOT to repair a Nintendo Switch after disastrous attempt – Dexerto

Twitch streamer shows how NOT to repair a Nintendo Switch after disastrous attempt Twitch, BeatemupsTwitch streamer Wood ‘Beatemups’ Hawker was forced to turn to the knowledge of his chat to repair his Nintendo Switch. However, things didn’t go quite as planned. Nintendo fans, this is your chance to look away. Relying on the knowledge of your followers to help repair a device you care about can be an easy solution for an otherwise complicated problem. During Hawker’s September 14 live stream appropriately titled “PLEASE FIX MY NINTENDO SWITCH,” the streamer pulled all of his viewers together in an attempt to figure out how to repair his broken device. Unfortunately for Hawker and his over 122 thousand Twitch followers, his repair attempt ended in disaster. I legitimately just broke my switch… can you help fix it? https://t.co/ofPJJpcZtr pic.twitter.com/5ogE8km35J — Wood Hawker (@BeatemupsWood) September 15, 2021 Twitch streamer’s disastrous Switch repair After hanging out with chat and getting the device disassembled down to the battery, Hawker inquired about different ways he could remove it from the case. While being told multiple different ways to do so, he first settled on trying to use a credit card to help remove the adhesive from the underside of the battery. Attempting the removal just bent the edge of the rewards card he used, so he got frustrated and started pulling out different tools he had at his disposal. Trying a plastic pry tool led to it breaking inside the console, frustrating the creator more. The broken tool left Hawker with limited options, so he attempted to remove the battery with a pair of metal tweezers, despite his chat warning him about the risk of puncturing the battery. Despite the warnings, he punctured the battery and immediately dropped the device and his head in aggravation and apparent shame. It’s not the first time we’ve seen a creator puncture a battery on stream, but we can only hope that this is the last time someone puts themselves in this level of danger on stream. Puncturing a battery will cause it to swell up, become extremely hot and potentially explode. In cases like this, it’s probably better to just ask someone with experience to repair it for you. Here’s hoping that the streamer can get his Switch working again soon.

  • Twitch streamer shuts down sexist troll with amazing comeback – Dexerto

Twitch streamer shuts down sexist troll with amazing comeback Twitch/Twitter: negaoryxTwitch partner ‘negaoryx,’ who became a meme a few years back for her iconic reaction to a scene in The Last of Us, has once again gone viral – this time for expertly shutting down a sexist troll in her chat during one of her latest streams. Trolls are nothing new in Twitch chats, especially for female streamers. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like they are going away any time soon, and most broadcasters have just decided to ignore them, for better or for worse. While Twitch Partner negaoryx says that most of the time, she follows the aforementioned advice, she recently decided to go another route. During one of her recent streams, a troll in her Twitch chat asked a very inappropriate question about the color of her underwear, which caused her to call out the user in front of her viewers, claiming that people need to “respect women”. https://twitter.com/negaoryx/status/1354147400160403457?s=20 “What did you expect? Did you expect I was gonna be like, ‘Blue, why do you wanna find out? Here’s my number!’ Like, what do you think people are going to do, my dude? Like, how do you expect this going any other way than how it went,” she said. While that might have been where the clip would have ended, another chatter quickly tried to deflect by saying that she couldn’t take a joke, which caused her to expertly break down why that excuse doesn’t work. “The rest of us can still joke, you can’t because you were never joking in the first place, you were just being a misogynistic, sexist piece of sh*t,” negaoryx said. “And then, you don’t like hearing that because someone’s holding a mirror up to you and it makes you uncomfortable because you know you and you know the parts of you that are good. So in your heart, you have to come up with a narrative that makes you feel better about the fact that somebody’s asking you to confront the parts about yourself that you hate the most.” Unfortunately it’s because I see these kinds of comments really regularly, and after 4.5 years of doing this I just know how I feel about it without having to think, you know? It’s nothing new, the only difference is I said it out loud instead of thinking it to myself. — Emme Montgomery (negaoryx) (@negaoryx) January 26, 2021 The streamer uploaded the clip to Twitter and it quickly went viral, gaining over 1.3 million views within less than 12 hours at the time of writing. Most seem to be viewing the rant positively, with multiple members of the games industry chiming in to praise the Twitch streamer for her response to the toxic behavior. This isn’t the first time negaoryx has gone viral; two years ago, her reaction to a bunny getting killed in Naughty Dog’s post apocalyptic game The Last of Us gained traction across social media, even earning responses from the developers of the game. While the obvious hope is that her speech will cause trolls to rethink their offensive messages, the chances of that happening is, unfortunately, unlikely – but we can bet future trolls will think twice before deciding to say such things in her chat after one of their own was put on blast.

  • Twitch streamer shocked after being unfollowed due to his race – Dexerto

Twitch streamer shocked after being unfollowed due to his race LifeofRio, Twitch / FreepikPopular live streamers and internet personalities are often no strangers to hateful remarks, due to their large online followings – but one Twitch streamer received a direct message that left him speechless. Streamer “LifeofRio” is a relatively popular face on Twitch, boasting over 48,000 followers on the platform and over 124,000 subscribers on YouTube – but his upbeat attitude and online popularity didn’t stop a fellow streamer from sending him a racist message. Rio posted a screenshot of the message to Twitter on August 22, which showed the sender claiming that she had to unfollow him on social media due to his race. 400https://twitter.com/LifeofRio/status/1162898437106479105?s=20“…I like to see content creators that look more like me skin-wise so I can grow,” the message read. “…I just don’t see the point of following a black streamer since we have different audiences. I think if the circumstances were different, this would be a great friendship.” Needless to say, Rio claimed that he didn’t know how to respond to the unprompted message, calling the sender and those who share her sentiments “seriously annoying.” I honestly do not know what to say……………. she legit can’t watch me because I’m black??? I don’t even have the vocabulary to express how dumb that guy is. — Drift0r (@Drift0r) August 23, 2019 This wouldn’t be the first time Rio has been met with racist vitriol, either: the streamer fought against an incredibly racist player in Mortal Kombat 11 just a few days ahead of receiving the offensive message, detailing his negative experience in a humorous YouTube video despite his opponent’s contempt. While Rio has yet to provide another statement regarding the racist message, netizens are banding together to decry the sender’s harmful words and make it clear that there is no place for racism in gaming.

  • Twitch streamer shocks viewers after “painful” kiss with her moderator – Dexerto

Twitch streamer shocks viewers after “painful” kiss with her moderator supcaitlin | TwitchIn a bizarre on-stream moment, Twitch streamer supcaitlin had a hard time committing to kissing her moderator as a stream goal. She downed shots and prepared herself for it, only to wash her mouth out after a small peck as Twitch viewers watched on in horror. Twitch is a constantly evolving platform, and the ways in which people market themselves and create livestream content will always be changing. And, while the so-called Topless meta has been squashed by Twitch TOS changes, there are still streamers out there trying to push the limits of what’s possible while being live on Twitch. Streamer supcaitlin didn’t do anything that’d get her banned, but she definitely pushed the envelope by inviting her own Twitch moderator to a stream with her and acting repulsed by him the entire time in what’s already being called Twitch’s, “most awkward moment candidate 2024,” when the year just started. Twitch streamer has awkward on-stream kiss with her mod There’s a lot of stigma against Twitch moderators, people who dedicate a lot of their time to keeping an eye on someone’s livestream without much reward. There are some streamers who pay their mods and make them a pivotal part of keeping things going, but that’s an exception rather than the rule. Streamer supcaitlin invited her moderator, a man who goes by the name dilly, to come onto the stream and hang out with her. However, some viewers were left bewildered by the bizarre dono goals, such as him sniffing her dirty laundry or them kissing. When the dono goal for Caitlin kissing her moderator was hit, the way the kiss went down was awkward, to say the least. She was moving in for the kiss, but claimed she had to take another shot to tolerate it. Her chat was a strange and conflicting mix of people rooting dilly on and people going “EWWWWW” in all caps. After she went in for the kiss, she almost immediately tore herself away and ran to the bathroom to wash her mouth out. A thread on the LivestreamFail subreddit had people feeling sorry for dilly, calling the moment “painful” and “awkward” to watch. “Man, no one deserves to be treated like that, just say no to kissing, don’t agree to kiss him then act like you just licked the toilet bowl at a truck stop,” said one Redditor, with another replying to them that this could have just been for the content all along and that she’s exaggerating on purpose. However, that kiss isn’t the only awkward moment from the stream. She also wound up doing a shot from his belly button – or, if we’re being more realistic, a small slurp. She almost immediately recoiled, and once again seemed to leave the room. That said, he did eventually kiss her on the cheek in a way that was a bit less awkward. dilly got there in the end, though she still didn’t seem over the moon about it. supcaitlin is no stranger to interacting with her viewers, and, though it’s rare for her to meet them in person, there’s also a good chance dilly knew what he was walking into.

  • Twitch streamer shocked by DMCA strikes over platform’s own “safe” Soundtrack service – Dexerto

Twitch streamer shocked by DMCA strikes over platform’s own “safe” Soundtrack service Twitter: @KevinRobMartin / TwitchDuring another incident involving Twitch and music copyright claims, streamer Kevin Martin slammed the platform after receiving two DMCA strikes on his channel while streaming music via Twitch’s own service, Soundtrack. After facing severe backlash over DMCA strikes in 2020, Twitch revealed a set of initiatives to provide creators with more protection for their channels. One of these safeguards was Soundtrack, a service created by the platform to provide streamers with copyright-free music. This was originally seen as a step in the right direction, but streamers are now slamming the platform over Soundtrack’s confusing usage policies that have landed one creator with two DMCA strikes on his channel. Well-known poker streamer Kevin Martin revealed he had been hit by two DMCA strikes after playing music from Soundtrack during his streams. He slammed Twitch over the fact that his channel had been struck twice after using their service — one more strike and his account could be terminated completely. With no warning my @Twitch account has been threatened with termination for using a song/product Twitch gave to streamers and advertised as safe. pic.twitter.com/0IkKQQJsrE — KMart (@KevinRobMartin) June 5, 2021 Martin’s post quickly gained traction amongst the larger Twitch community, with notable industry figures and fellow streamers chiming in — the latter of which also deal with the threat of DMCA strikes looming over their heads. Zach Bussey, a well-known commentator on the business side of Twitch, quickly pointed out that, at least in this particular instance, the streaming service did not appear to be at fault. Here’s why:https://t.co/Pg594hSTc4 Tl;dr: Music from Soundtrack isn’t licensed to have in VODs. It sits in it’s own audio line, that should not be heard in clips/vods when used as intended. It’s not a Spotify clone in that regard. — Zach Bussey (@zachbussey) June 5, 2021 While Soundtrack is meant to provide music for creators to use during their livestreams, it isn’t licensed to appear in VODs or clips, which according to Bussey’s analysis is where Martin’s issue appears to stem from. Although Bussey and several others pointed out that Soundtrack appeared to have been configured incorrectly, leading to the strikes against Martin, this did little to quiet those who felt the platform still isn’t doing enough to help its creators. One user remarked “[Soundtrack not being licensed for VODs and clips] shouldn’t even be a thing. It should be safe on and off stream.” Another account slammed the service for Soundtrack’s flawed implementation: “they killed Twitch Sings to pay for this music platform, costing a lot of streamers their livings.” Even creators from other platforms chimed in. Cory ‘Gothalion’ Michael, an ex-Twitch partner who now streams on Facebook Gaming, admitted that this case appeared to be avoidable user error, but lamented the lack of clarity that continues to haunt streamers when dealing with DMCA. So apparently dude didn’t use the system correctly so the audio wasn’t captured for VODS. So not on the platform here, but regardless not a good look. The waters are so muddied. Even with FBs deals with the music industry, I’ve had my stream turned off for music in fallout. Tough — Gothalion (@Gothalion) June 6, 2021 These issues are the latest in a long line of DMCA-related problems faced by streamers. While the situation seemed to have subsided since 2020, Twitch revealed in May that it had been hit with a new round of copyright claims that sent many streamers scrambling to scrub their channels yet again. While this is certainly a sticky situation for Martin, the streamer appeared to be in good spirits. After his original video exploded on Twitter, he issued a follow-up statement, thanking the community for their support and hoping for a positive outcome. “I hope [at least one] strike will get removed because I just want to play cards and make poker shows,” he shared. It remains to be seen how Twitch will respond to this latest DMCA controversy, if at all, but we will make sure to keep you updated on any further developments.

  • Twitch streamer Seum evicted from home while live – Dexerto

Twitch streamer Seum evicted from home while live Twitter: JustSeumTwitch streamer Sam Seum was stunned after her livestream was interrupted by her family being evicted from their home, and left an emotional message for her viewers after the eviction took place. Seum, who has over 80k followers on the Amazon-owned platform, left her stream very abruptly on October 5, looking concerned while talking to somebody off-camera before simply saying “I have to go, sorry.” She immediately shut her stream off without providing information on what was going on, but it was clearly a cause for concern. Not long after, Seum took to Twitter to provide an update to her viewers and community, saying that “we have nowhere to go and I am asking for any kind of help. “There’s no way for us to move back in, even if we pay what we owe … We’re in contact with the VA to try and get transitional housing but yeah… I just need a home for my family.” Seum then posted a series of videos, explaining the situation, saying that she’s “frazzled and distraught” over the situation. She said that the sheriffs turned up and told them to “grab their things and leave,” despite the fact that they failed to receive the 3-day notice they were told they would receive should this issue arise. Seum hasn’t provided an update since, though did say she would still be going to TwitchCon in San Diego the following day, as the trip had been paid for and she had paid activations she had to work at the event. It’s unclear what Seum will do following the event, but several people online have reached out to help, including extending an arm for her husband, who is applying for jobs in IT, so the tides may well turn in their favor.

  • Twitch streamer shatters collar bone in bike crash during IRL broadcast – Dexerto

Twitch streamer shatters collar bone in bike crash during IRL broadcast SkillSpecsSkillSpecs, an Old-School Runescape streamer on Twitch, decided to touch some grass and do an IRL bike stream. However, his stream quickly came to an end after a live bike crash led to a broken collar bone. SkillSpecs was getting ready for a big IRL live stream event. He intended to bring his chat on a journey, one that goes far beyond where he’d go in his normal Old-School Runescape streams. However, the broadcast would be cut much shorter than anticipated. Just as he was getting on his bike and picking up steam, the streamer crashed his bike while trying to fiddle with his phone, and the stream went dark. This certainly isn’t the first time a crash has been captured on-stream, but things didn’t end too well for SkillSpecs. He broke his collar bone in 3 places as a result of the bike crash, bringing a very swift and unfortunate end to his New Years’ stream. Twitch streamer breaks collar bone in 3 places during IRL stream SkillSpecs had tried to make an IRL stream happen a week beforehand, with some connection issues requiring him to restart his stream multiple times. It didn’t exactly go off without a hitch. But this time, he was ready. He decided to bring his chat on a journey with him, which would start with him biking to his destination. “Welcome to the life of SkillSpecs.” He introduced his chat to the stream, ready to bring them along for a new style of content. The wind was howling as chat pointed out he was wearing sandals while biking and had no helmet. Not the most optimal safety gear. And, as it turned out, he may have needed it. While trying to change his camera position and talk to his audience, SkillSpecs lost his balance and fell over with his phone sent flying. Judging by the audio from the end of the clip, he was clearly in pain. He ushered in 2023 with a hospital visit and a broken collarbone. Not the best way to start the year, but at least this streamer has been a good sport about it. Some chat regulars have been memeing on him in the aftermath of the accident, and SkillSpecs has responded in kind by choosing to laugh about his fall and make the most of it rather than languishing in his misfortune.

  • Twitch streamer says he was banned for talking about Israel-Palestine conflict – Dexerto

Twitch streamer says he was banned for talking about Israel-Palestine conflict YouTube/MarouaneLamharziAlaouiA Twitch streamer is hitting out at Twitch after claiming the platform banned him for discussing the Israel-Palestine conflict in the Middle East. Twitch is well-known for making some controversial ban decisions in the past and more often than not, failing to address them in the public sphere. Now, an activist is claiming that the Amazon-owned platform took things too far and suspended his account for discussing rising tensions and problems happening in Gaza. The streamer, who goes by Marouane A. Lamharzi on Twitter says that he was hit with a 30-day ban after he spoke about what he considered “the injustice happening in Palestine.” After speaking about the injustice happening in Palestine, @Twitch decided to issue a 30-day ban on my channel for Targeted Hateful Conduct. Being an activist that fights against hate speech in Morocco, I thought there was a problem in translation since I speak Moroccan dialect.— Marouane A. Lamharzi (@marouane53) May 28, 2021 “Twitch decided to issue a 30-day ban on my channel for Targeted Hateful Conduct,” he explained. “Being an activist that fights against hate speech in Morocco, I thought there was a problem in translation since I speak Moroccan dialect.” According to the streamer, Twitch decided to uphold the ban and its duration, which surprised him considering this was his first offense. He added that he felt like he was being silenced and that Twitch had already taken its side on the situation. I don’t know how I can fight this, since Twitch doesn’t want to listen. The future of my streams is still in the dark, but I will let you guys know when I decide what to do. Thank you everyone for your overwhelming support these last few days, I appreciate it so much.— Marouane A. Lamharzi (@marouane53) May 28, 2021 “I don’t know how I can fight this, since Twitch doesn’t want to listen. The future of my streams is still in the dark, but I will let you guys know when I decide what to do,” he continued. “Thank you everyone for your overwhelming support these last few days, I appreciate it so much.” It’s unclear exactly what Lamharzi said to earn the ban, but it should be noted that Twitch does allow political discussion on its site, so it’s not like merely talking about Middle Eastern issues would warrant a suspension. Twitch even has a full category dedicated to discussing politics, it just makes this whole situation all the more complex, just like the Israel-Palestine conflict itself. In any case, Lamharzi will be able to return to Twitch in 30 days and hopefully he can figure out exactly why the site decided to ban him for a whole month.

Twitch streamer says she was “taunted” with pizza deliveries before being swatted Twitch/Instagram: PixelxkittenLGBTQIA+ Twitch streamer Pixelxkitten revealed on Twitter that she had been swatted during a charity stream, and added that before the incident she was “taunted” with pizza deliveries. As Twitch gains popularity with people around the world, it also has provided a way for bad actors to harass various creators on the platform. Incidents known as “swatting” involve these people attacking creators by placing anonymous, automated phone calls to the police. While it’s done more often to bigger creators like NICKMERCS and xQc, there have been a handful of attacks on smaller creators as well. PixelxKitten was swatted during a recent charity stream on the platform and went into details regarding her incident on Twitter. PixelxKitten details her swatting The morning after being swatted, Pixelxkitten posted a thread on Twitter explaining the incident and detailing that she was “taunted” with pizza deliveries beforehand. She started the tweet thread by saying: “My dad counted more than half a dozen squad cars outside and there was a swat team in full gear and guns drawn at our home. They were told that there was an armed shooter on site who had just shot his girlfriend and was going to unalive.” Pixel also explained that she had already held a conversation with their parents about the risks of swatting and stalkers so they had a basic plan set in case it ever happened. My dad was able to meet the officers outside and luckily I had already had a conversation with my parents when I moved back in that swatting, stalkers etc. would be a problem, so we already had a basic plan and knew we had to alert them of my reactive and protective dog, Charlie. — Pixel 🍉 She/ They (@PixelxKittentv) June 19, 2022 The Twitch streamer and their family then went outside to talk to the police officers and explained what swatting is as well as the fact they are an LGBTQIA+ streamer during Pride Month. Pixel also detailed another harrowing part of the incident. Apparently, the swatter kept sending her pizzas that weren’t paid for, mentioning that they assume it was “just a bizarre taunt to scare us.” The swatter also kept sending us pizzas from @dominos and @pizzahut which was just a bizarre taunt to scare us I assume?? The pizzas weren’t paid for, and we felt so badly for the drivers that had to keep coming over 🥺 — Pixel 🍉 She/ They (@PixelxKittentv) June 19, 2022 All in all, the creator explained that the swatting went fairly well considering the circumstances and ended her thread with a focus on her successful charity stream in which she raised $3,000.

Twitch streamer saveaprincess banned after ASMR clip goes viral Twitch/saveaprincessStreamer saveaprincess was banned from Twitch after a video circulated of her performing ASMR, which some social media users found shocking. ASMR became one of the most popular categories on Twitch in 2021. Many big streamers at the time, like Amouranth and Indiefoxx, hopped on the wave rocking leggings and “ear licking” their way to insane viewership. Since then, Twitch handed out bans and the ASMR wave died down somewhat as creators’ channels were put in jeopardy. • Twitch streamer hilariously sabotaged by cat during video game broadcast – Dexerto

Twitch streamer hilariously sabotaged by cat during video game broadcast A Twitch streamer had his June 14 broadcast rudely interrupted by an unlikely culprit – his cat. Many streamers use Twitch to broadcast their favorite games, with hundreds of thousands of users turning to the platform every day to show the world what they’re playing. Twitch streamer ‘itsjustj0rd’ was trying to do just that, with a playthrough of open-world adventure game Subnautica, before his cat decided to sabotage his stream. What a naughty kitty The streamer is seen trying to construct a Sea-Base in the game, before having to stop because of his cat Timmy’s shenanigans. “Timmy! What are you doing?!” he asks the cat. “Why don’t you tell the people…” He is suddenly cut off by his cat, as it hilariously closes his game and the streaming client. “Aw, cat! You’ve only gone and shut the str-” itsjustj0rd starts to say before his entire stream shuts down, leaving viewers with Twitch’s disconnected splash screen to stare at. Cat owners will know just how demanding the little critters can be, and his cat certainly grabbed his attention in a big way. Cats aren’t the only animals sabotaging streams itsjustj0rdo isn’t the only streamer who’s had his stream rudely interrupted by an animal. Popular broadcaster ‘Knut’ was streaming from Northern Europe when he had his lunch pinched by a seagull. The bird decided to be stealthy and go for the bodybuilder’s lunch after he left the shot quickly to go to the bathroom, leaving his food unattended. Luckily, an elderly lady was around to protect the lunch, batting and swatting at the seagull to keep it at bay until the streamer returned. His viewers watched the entire situation in hysterics, and even Knut found the funny side once he’d returned to his stream.

  • Twitch streamer Sacriel pranked by wife during 10,000 subscriber speech – Dexerto

Twitch streamer Sacriel pranked by wife during 10,000 subscriber speech Twitch streamer Chris ‘Sacriel’ Ball’s 10,000 subscriber celebration speech really heated up when his wife Shannon pulled a hilarious prank, bringing him a fresh cup of tea that had a special secret ingredient in the form of hot sauce. Reaching 10,000 paid subscribers on Twitch is a monumental achievement, so it’s no surprise that Sacriel was delighted to see so many join ‘The 42nd’, the name given to those willing to support him monetarily as he streams full time. His wife Shannon felt that the stream just wasn’t spicy enough though, and followed through on her cheeky threat to pour hot sauce in his tea if he reached the milestone, leading to a truly incredible reaction from an unsuspecting Sacriel. In fact, Shannon’s cunning plan actually started when he was still on 9,700 subscribers, uploading footage of herself in the kitchen making an extra-special cup of tea for Sacriel, who was still streaming in another room. Telling The 42nd that they had earned this reward, she explained that there was already a lot of hot sauce in the bottom of the freshly-brewed tea, but because she had forgotten to film it, add the rest of the bottle for good measure so everyone could see the process, sticking a lid on the cup to help keep it warm, and mask the overpowering smell of a full bottle of hot sauce. 10k @Sacriel42 subs? You guys earned this. I prepared this SPECIAL tea when you were still at 9700… ? 42nd 4lyf pic.twitter.com/wGcxBiXw7x — Shannon Plante (@ShannonZKiller) January 5, 2020 After leaving the cup with her off-guard husband, Sacriel finally hit the 10,000 subscriber mark, and as all good Brits do, decided to raise his mug of tea and have a celabratory swig in honor of those who had supported him as he reached the Twitch landmark. “We did it chat, cheers. To The 42nd, you sexy buggers,” he said, taking a drink from his cup. Seconds after the tea hit his tongue though, everything changed, as the hot sauce set his tastebuds on fire all thanks to his prankster wife Shannon. “No!” he roared, spitting it out in panic. “No! Oh God! Why Shannon, why did you? Ah, it burns!” WE DID IT, 42ND!! 10k subs!!! This was honestly the best week of streaming I’ve ever had, and I feel like we’re just getting started. I love you all Enjoy reliving my suffering as my evil wife puts hot sauce in my tea like she threatened to if we hit this goal: pic.twitter.com/atyclo478O — Sacriel (@Sacriel42) January 5, 2020 Shannon wasn’t finished there, offering the streamer a bottle of 100% lemon juice, assuring him it would take the burning sensation he was struggling with away if he just took one massive mouthful of the fruity liquid. Perhaps desperate for some sweet relief, Sacriel grabbed the bottle after some persuasion and drank some, only for his face to scrunch up in horror as he instantly regretted his decision, with Shannon giggling in the background as he spat it out. And here’s where the soulless demon did me again convincing me 100% lemon juice would get rid of the burning before finally giving me cream. This one wasn’t a 10k goal – this was just “for the lols” she says: pic.twitter.com/AnQEuGIugI — Sacriel (@Sacriel42) January 5, 2020 While the streamer’s 10,000 subscriber celebration may have ended up being a lot hotter than he expected, Sacriel was undoubtedly still grateful for all the support he had receieved all along the way, telling his Twitter followers that it had been the “best week of streaming” he had ever had, before expressing his love to all who had followed his journey. One thing’s for sure though, he’ll definitely be more thorough about checking the contents of his tea the next time Shannon brings him a cup!

  • Twitch streamer robbed at gunpoint and then gets banned because of it – Dexerto

Twitch streamer robbed at gunpoint and then gets banned because of it Twitch/shuls_ofTwitch has banned a Spanish-speaking streamer after he was suddenly robbed in the middle of a broadcast. IRL Twitch streams can be some of the most entertaining on the platform, but they also come with a series of risks, especially when one ventures into a potentially unsafe area. Over the years we’ve seen dozens of wild IRL incidents including fights, streamers getting their phones stolen, and now even a makeup studio getting robbed at gunpoint. During a November 30 broadcast, Twitch streamer ‘shuls_of’ was getting makeup applied when suddenly two masked men showed up with guns drawn in a disturbing end to the stream. Twitch bans streamer after masked men rob him at gunpoint In a clip from the stream that’s been saved and posted to social media, a woman was putting makeup on ‘shuls_of’ as the sound of a gun being cocked echoed out, shocking everyone in the room. As the woman screamed, two masked intruders entered with guns drawn. After telling the woman to be quiet, they grabbed the streamer and checked his pockets, taking out his cell phone. Shortly thereafter, the thieves took the streaming camera and the broadcast went offline, leaving viewers fearful that something could have happened. However, according to some users, the streamer’s brother, minisapo777_, who also broadcasts on Twitch, verified that he is okay, but the Amazon-owned platform ended up banning shuls_of following the robbery. Twitch’s community guidelines state: “In situations where a user has lost control of their broadcast due to severe injury, medical emergency, police action, or being targeted with serious violence, we will temporarily remove the channel and associated content.” So, there’s a good chance this streamer will be able to get their channel back once things have calmed down. This isn’t the first robbery involving guns to happen on Twitch this year. Back in October, a streamer in Toronto was held at gunpoint and had his $100,000 diamond chain stolen.

  • Twitch streamer Ryiino banned from Kick after sending inappropriate messages to minor – Dexerto

Twitch streamer Ryiino banned from Kick after sending inappropriate messages to minor RyiinoStreaming platform Kick has banned Ryiino after the Twitch streamer admitted to sending inappropriate messages requesting explicit images to a minor. On June 11, Twitter user SkipToLauren accused Ryiino of sending her inappropriate messages despite her only being 17 years old. A day later, Ryiino later admitted he “made a horrible mistake” and apologized. Lauren received praise for having the bravery to call out Ryiino, and Team Limit has since dropped the streamer. Now Kick has also taken action, banning Ryiino from streaming on its platform. Ryiino banned from Kick after messaging minor Ryiino, who was also a streamer on Twitch, has been banned from Kick after he admitted to sending inappropriate messages soliciting explicit images from a 17-year-old. Kick’s announcement that Ryiino has been banned was shared by platform affiliate Clutch Lux. The ban was verified on June 13, two days after Ryiino was initially accused. Lux tweeted: “@KickStreaming has officially removed Ryiino from the platform after being exposed earlier this week for sending, soliciting, and paying for sexual photos of an underage minor.” Unlike Kick, Twitch has yet to ban Ryiino at the time of writing, which Lux was eager to point out: “@Twitch has yet to remove Ryinno from their platform or drop him as a partner… this speaks volumes for the platform!” Kick’s decision to ban Ryiino follows the streamer’s admittance of guilt. Responding in his own official Discord, he labeled the message a “horrible mistake,” and apologized to any fans he has disappointed. This message was later removed and Ryiino has since wiped his social accounts. He announced that he would be taking a step back from streaming indefinitely, unsure if he will ever come back. The axed Kick streamer has also said he will to take time to reflect and get his life in order before considering a return. Kick has been undergoing a period of impressive growth following a series of unpopular decisions from Twitch. Its canceled proposal to heavily restrict branded content was especially controversial. It has seen huge personalities like Ninja try out the platform while content creators like Adin Ross have signed huge deals to stream exclusively on Kick.

  • Twitch streamer roasts Addison Rae & Valkyrae with hilarious Screen Break “ad” – Dexerto

Twitch streamer roasts Addison Rae & Valkyrae with hilarious Screen Break “ad” Instagram/addisonraee/anniefuchsia/valkyraeTwitch streamer AnnieFuchsia had a hilarious response to Addison Rae’s new skincare line ‘Screen Break’ with a parody ad comparing it to Valkyrae’s controversial RFLCT product. On February 1, TikTok icon Addison Rae revealed her new product ‘Screen Break,’ designed to protect users from blue light emissions. This was very similar to Valkyrae’s RFLCT, which was canceled after massive backlash. Rae’s new line has already been mocked, even by Valkyrae herself, who joked she was rebranding to just “Valky” after seeing the product ad for herself. Now, AnnieFuchsia was jumped in on the drama with her own take in the form of a parody promo comparing the two skincare products. Addison Rae & Valkyrae mocked by Twitch streamer With a RFLCT box in hand, AnnieFuchsia placed ‘Screen Break’ stickers over the packaging, marking the similarities between the two. “It’s perfect for all the time you spend in front of the monitor, I mean sorry, it’s no longer for gamers,” she joked, referring to how RFLCT was marketed to streamers while Screen Break is for phone users. “All the time you spend on your phone or laptop, because you don’t own a PC, you’re not a gamer.” The mock ad continued with Annie remarking how she was using the product already to great results even though she clearly didn’t have it in her possession. “My friend Valky, I mean Addi, is using it too and she’s… I trust her and you should trust her too, you know? It’s great,” she added, intentionally mixing up the two celebrities. So far, Addison Rae has yet to respond to the product’s backlash or comparison to RFLCT, but it’s likely this isn’t the last we’ll be hearing from streamers chiming in over the controversial launch.

  • Twitch streamer roasts “backseat gamers” during Jedi: Fallen Order broadcast – Dexerto

Twitch streamer roasts “backseat gamers” during Jedi: Fallen Order broadcast Twitch streamer and IGN host, Stella ‘ParallaxStella’ Luna, offered a perfect clap back to a “backseat gamer” while playing Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Backseat gamers are synonymous with Twitch chats far and wide. Imagine receiving unwelcomed driving advice from a passenger while driving — that is what is commonly referred to as ‘backseating.’ Although ‘backseat gamers’ have good intentions, the vast majority of the time, their attempt at interacting can be off-putting for streamers. Pre-emptive advice, revealing spoilers, and instructing content creators what to do are all common attributes shared among backseat gamers. Although streamers often tolerate the traits mentioned above, ParallaxStella decided enough was enough. While streaming Jedi: Fallen Order on Grand Master difficulty, Luna decided to take matters into her own hands and school a backseat gamer – which was highlighted in a post on her Twitter. After asking, “Do you really want to f**king go there, dude? Really?” to the culprit in chat, the streamer rolled-up her sleeves and glared straight into the camera. Stella paused her game and exclaimed: “I will figure it out, okay? I have figured out every other Dark Souls game I have played… I will get it, okay? These games are just tough, especially when you’re playing on the hardest f**king difficulty.” I asked the chat to stop backseat gaming while I’m playing Grand Master in Jedi: Fallen Order and someone told me I shouldn’t stream if I don’t want people to backseat game. My response: pic.twitter.com/tTmjnZnQWC — Stella😈 (@ParallaxStella) December 1, 2019 Before giving an example of how someone wouldn’t be likely to exhibit similar behavior towards a professional in public, Luna asked: “Telling me ‘don’t stream then, if I don’t want people to backseat game’ – are you f**king kidding me?” After calling out the guilty party, the American then explained: “I stream because I like having fun interacting with you guys.” ParallaxStella further glossed over how she’d expect her audience to interact and stated: “If I want help, I will f**king ask. I am stubborn; I like getting sh*t done my way. I like figuring things out because it makes me feel accomplished – the same way [that] I’m sure you’d appreciate that.” Stella’s response likely reflects a large proportion of streamers out there. The likes of Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins and Tyler ‘loltyler1’ Steinkamp have also been vocal about backseat gaming, after venting their frustrations. Of course, it is difficult to mitigate those with bad intentions in Twitch chat. Nonetheless, Stella’s bid to isolate the culprit was spelled out effectively. Hopefully, the message was received loud and clear!

  • Twitch streamer risks ban after literally setting hands on fire for cosplay – Dexerto

Twitch streamer risks ban after literally setting hands on fire for cosplay ValveA Twitch streamer risked getting banned — or more pertinently, seriously hurt — by literally setting their hands on fire for a cosplay on stream. The act could fall under the platform’s self-harm rules. Cosplayers love to commit their all to creating the most accurate version of fictional characters. And in order to do so, these cosplayers often learn and master artistic crafts, ranging from sewing, designing, and even blacksmithing. But Twitch streamer ‘rostislav_999’ attempted a shortcut, opting to set fire to their own hands and risking getting banned on the streaming platform instead of meticulously planning their cosplay. The Twitch streamer is shown wearing a long sleeve red shirt and black gloves. In the background is DOTA 2’s Ember Spirit’s 3D model, which is likely the character the Twitch streamer was attempting to cosplay. They apply what appears to be lighter fluid onto their gloves, and then proceed to set their hands ablaze. The flames continue burning, and the streamer quickly attempts to reach for the sword props, only to drop them like hot potatoes. Clearly, the gloves weren’t fireproof. The heat from the flames may have very realistically caused harm to the streamer. Rather than putting in genuine effort and creating props, the streamer attempted a shortcut by literally setting their hands on fire. But how is this a potentially bannable offense? According to Twitch’s official guidelines, the platform “does not allow content that glorifies, promotes, or encourages self-harm.” They also “prohibit activity that may endanger your life, lead to your physical harm, or encourage others to engage in physically harmful behavior.“ The act of setting your own hands on stream can easily be constituted as intentional self harm and thereby goes against Twitch’s community guidelines. And as the community knows, Twitch has banned people for far less in the past. For now, rostislav is safe on both accounts. Their hands are fine for the most part, and their account is still on Twitch. But it’s a lesson in fire safety for all, taught the hard way.
