Squid Game star HoYeon Jung hits 20 million Instagram followers after Netflix debut NetflixNetflix’s latest hit show Squid Game has taken the internet by storm and leading actress HoYeon Jung has reaped the rewards, as her Instagram follower count has skyrocketed to over 20 million since the program debuted. The South Korean drama Squid Game exploded in popularity since it appeared on Netflix on September 17, largely from word of mouth. In the show, down-on-their-luck individuals compete in a series of deadly challenges (some of which have turned into viral TikToks) in an attempt to become rich. Now, actress HoYeon Jung has seen her own growth soar thanks to the show’s success. Despite being ranked as one of the world’s Top 50 Models, she sat at just over 400,000 followers prior to Squid Game’s launch. HoYeon Jung gets millions of followers after Squid Game Two days after the show appeared and began amassing a following, so too did Jung. Statistics show she gained 20,000 Instagram followers on the Friday and Saturday. This was followed up by a whopping 250,209 on Sunday the 19th. The followers kept pouring in after that, with literally millions of people hitting the follow button on her Instagram every day since. September 30 proved to be one of her biggest days yet, with 1.3M new people deciding to follow her on Instagram. She now has over 21 million followers on the social media platform. View this post on Instagram Amusingly, Squid Game was Jung’s first-ever acting performance, playing the North Korean defector Kang Sae-byeok. Not bad for her acting debut. Sadly, there are currently no plans for a sequel, but given HoYeon Jung’s newfound popularity, we probably won’t have long to wait before she’s signed on to her next project.

Squid Game star Lee Jung-Jae admits he hasn’t seen MrBeast’s viral YouTube recreation – Dexerto
Squid Game star Lee Jung-Jae admits he hasn’t seen MrBeast’s viral YouTube recreation NetflixLee Jung-Jae, the star of the smash hit Netflix series Squid Game, revealed in a new interview that he is yet to see MrBeast’s viral recreation of the series. When it first released on Netflix, the Korean Smash hit Squid Game took the world by storm. The dark and thought-provoking drama became one of – if not the biggest – hits of 2021. The show won three Golden Globes in 2022, including best actor, best-supporting actor as well as best TV series, all in the drama category. After the show aired, content creators and celebrities were quick to jump on board and make their own versions of Squid Game, none garnering more attention than MrBeast’s viral Squid Game YouTube recreation. Back in November 2021, MrBeast promised viewers that he would create a full-scale recreation of the Squid Game tournament. The eventual video aired on November 24, 2021, and has since been viewed over 230 million times. MrBeast’s take on Squid Game featured “456 random people competing in exact recreations of every game,” with one of the standout stars from the video being Camilla Araujo, a.k.a. Player 67. But it turns out, even despite its popularity, MrBeast’s recreation hasn’t reached the eyes of Squid Game’s own cast. Lee Jung-Jae reveals he’s never seen MrBeast’s Squid Game video In a new interview on the BANTER podcast, Squid Game star Lee Jung-Jae was asked if he had ever seen the MrBeast parody or was at least aware of the viral video. Sadly, he replied and said, “yeah I don’t think I’ve seen it”, much to the surprise of the Banter boys. However, now that he has been made aware of the parody, there’s a chance that the star might now go back and watch it. If this does happen, we’ll be sure to keep you updated on Lee Jung-Jae’s MrBeast Squid Game reaction. For now though, be sure to check out Dexerto’s Squid Game: Season 2 hub as well as all the latest Entertainment news as well as TV & Movie updates.

Spotify’s first Premium price hike since 2021 is on the way for US users – Dexerto
Spotify’s first Premium price hike since 2021 is on the way for US users SpotifySpotify is set to increase prices for ad-free users in the coming weeks, with plenty more countries to be impacted later in 2023. Spotify, the biggest music streaming service, is expected to bump up its Premium package’s monthly fee in the US by a dollar, moving it from $9.99 to $10.99 in the coming days. The Wall Street Journal reported the imminent price hike and it seems that, for now, only US subscribers will be affected. However, the WSJ also hinted that Spotify users in dozens of other markets could see a similar spike in their 2023 subscription costs. This trend toward higher streaming costs isn’t new. Last year, Apple Music raised its subscription fee to $10.99, citing climbing licensing costs as the reason. Amazon Music and Tidal also followed Apple’s footsteps and upped their subscription charges. Spotify hasn’t made an official announcement just yet, but it’s apparent that they’re aiming to pad their profit margins. Recent actions, like moving long-standing subscribers to direct payments and bypassing the Apple App Store’s cut, show their intention to pocket every cent of the revenue themselves. The news shouldn’t be a surprise. Almost every other platform is upping its prices, and Spotify CEO Daniel Ek had already hinted at a potential price hike for Premium users in 2023. Still, for Spotify’s users, this isn’t exactly music to their ears. The burden of rising subscription costs across different platforms seems to be becoming heavier by the day. This week alone, Peacock announced its first-ever price increase after logging losses in the billions, and YouTube Premium notified users about a $2/month hike for their US customers, bringing the monthly fee to $13.99 from $11.99 and upping the annual subscription by $20 to a total of $139.99. Times are indeed getting challenging for customers juggling multiple subscriptions; from video streaming services like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Hulu, Paramount+, ESPN+, to their preferred music streaming platform now, as well. This increase is a long-awaited one for Spotify investors and the music industry, however, as they stand to gain from these heftier prices. Plus, this could potentially translate into bigger paychecks for artists and record labels.

Spring break beach party goes viral after wrestling match ends in wardrobe malfunction – Dexerto
Spring break beach party goes viral after wrestling match ends in wardrobe malfunction TikTok/emmytorrisiA spring break beach party in Florida transformed into a series of wrestling matches that ended with an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction. Students and co-eds visiting Florida to get away from the snow and soak up all the sun for spring break are going viral after engaging in a wild beach brawl. In a TikTok making waves on the video platform, men and women got it on by performing ‘Oklahoma drills,’ which are commonly used in football practice where players wrestle each other. After a few men took each other on to a round of applause from the rowdy spring breakers, two women joined in on the action, but things quickly got out of control as the ladies collided with each other. Spring break bikini brawl ends with wardrobe malfunction As the two girls’ bodies splashed head-on, the larger woman was able to get on top and pin her opponent victoriously, though it came at a bit of an embarrassing cost. Brutally, amid the conflict, a breast popped out of the girl’s bikini, resulting in the match frantically being stopped while respectful onlookers tried blocking the camera’s view. Still, that didn’t stop some from cheering at the unfortunate situation as the party continued rocking the Fort Lauderdale beach. Although plenty of users in the comments enjoyed the wild spectacle, some weren’t exactly thrilled at the outcome or the ongoing shenanigans on the beach. “My version of hell,” commented one viewer. “If this is their version of making memories. I rather not have any,” replied another with a puking emoji for good measure. In any case, the video has gone viral, amassing hundreds of thousands of views and plenty of comments from those who wish they could be on vacation in the sunshine state.

Spotify users mock “Cancel Spotify” movement caused by Joe Rogan drama – Dexerto
Spotify users mock “Cancel Spotify” movement caused by Joe Rogan drama YouTube: PowerfulJRESome Spotify users have been mocking the viral #cancelspotify Twitter trend, saying they won’t be canceling their subscription to the streaming service in the wake of the Joe Rogan & Neil Young drama. Commentator and comedian Joe Rogan hosts one of the most popular podcasts on the internet, and in the decade since it began he has brought on a huge number of guests and garnered millions of views. Although he originally posted to YouTube, the episodes are now exclusively available on Spotify after signing a $100 million deal in 2020. In recent months, Rogan has come under fire for allegedly spreading misinformation on the podcast, and singer Neil Young was one of those to call out the host. He demanded that Spotify remove his music from their platform, writing: “They can have Rogan or Young. Not both.” This promptly led to a Twitter hashtag, #cancelspotify, gaining traction online. Many fans of Young pledged to cancel their Spotify subscriptions and boycott the platform as a result of the controversy. However, many users have been mocking the trend, with plenty claiming that they are continuing to listen to their music through Spotify despite the drama. me scrolling through #ByeByeSpotify & #cancelspotify while listening to spotify pic.twitter.com/VwDfb5TxFG — liz ! Spotify sparks outrage after announcing crackdown on family plans – Dexerto
Spotify sparks outrage after announcing crackdown on family plans Unsplash: @alexbemoreSpotify has come under fire from users after announcing another big crackdown on the use of family plans to give multiple people cheaper accounts. The Spotify family plan grants six premium accounts for the price of £17.99, or $16.99. Considering the equivalent of that in regular accounts would be closer to £60 or $70, it’s only natural that groups of people looking to save money would gravitate towards this plan. However, Spotify has constantly tried to clamp down on people abusing the system, by putting checks in place to make sure the people using the premium accounts really are in the same family. The latest of these checks apparently involves asking members of family plans to send proof that they live at the same address. What’s more, Spotify users are claiming that they’ll be kicked off of the plan within a week if they don’t send confirmation, and that they’d be banned from using another plan for a year if this happens. Spotify family plan users slam new security on account sharing Several users argued that this kind of crackdown would affect actual families using the system, not just the people abusing the cheaper accounts. “What if a family member lives away from the family?” One commenter asked. “What if they’re a uni student? Spotify what are you doing?” Other viewers suggested that the crackdown would be easy to get around, as Spotify won’t be able to manually check every family is correct: “Just say you all live at the same address. What are they going to do, come around and check?” Last year, Spotify made headlines for hiking the premium price upwards for users in America. It looks like this crackdown is part of a similar trend of refocusing how the site makes money.

Spotify testing popular TikTok-inspired feature – Dexerto
Spotify testing popular TikTok-inspired feature ByteDance, PixabayAs TikTok continues to rise in popularity, music streaming platform Spotify has taken inspiration from the app and is testing a “Discover” feature. During its relatively short time in the social media space, social media behemoth TikTok has become one of the world’s most popular apps. For North American users, the internet sensation has even made its way onto television in the form of TikTok TV, which has rolled out on multiple smart TVs across the States. Looking to capitalize on the app’s popularity is music streaming service, Spotify, who are set to implement one of TikTok’s most popular features into their own system. Spotify testing TikTok-inspired Discover feature In a series of tweets from business expert Chris Messina, it appears that Spotify are planning to test out a TikTik-style discover feature. “Omg for the first time in how long (?), Spotify has added a FOURTH icon to their toolbar: Discover!” the tweet states, and is accompanied by an image of the new menu. He goes on to note that Discover is “a pared down version of a TikTok-style feed of vertical music videos (likely using their canvas format) that you can like or skip.” This is again accompanied by a short video showing off the new system, highlighting the skip back and forth functions mentioned in the tweet. https://twitter.com/chrismessina/status/1463542273216446472 Importantly, this feature is still just being tested, which means it may never make it everyone’s screens. On the flip side, though, if it proves popular we may see it pop up sooner rather than later. Clearly inspired by the video app, Spotify’s new system is perfect for is music lovers and artists alike. Allowing artists to showcase their music and videos in short snippets that grab listeners’ attention, it’s a win for them. However, we’ll have to wait and see if it’s green-lit by the developers.

Spotify removes over 70 Joe Rogan Experience podcast episodes amid controversy – Dexerto
Spotify removes over 70 Joe Rogan Experience podcast episodes amid controversy Spotify: Joe RoganSpotify removed more than 70 episodes of the Joe Rogan Experience after the podcast host was accused of helping misinformation spread and using racial slurs in the past. Joe Rogan has been at the forefront of controversy in 2022. Towards the end of January, the podcast host came under fire for allegedly helping misinformation spread by having controversial guests on his show. Neil Young threatened to boycott Spotify for allowing him to do this, which sparked a movement on social media. Rogan held himself accountable and told fans disclaimer messages will be added in the future. But just as things were settling, footage of Rogan using racial slurs in the past emerged. He insisted the clips were taken out of context and that he isn’t racist but admitted it “sounded terrible.” In the midst of the drama, Spotify removed more than 70 episodes of his show from their platform. It’s not the first time they’ve done it, with more than 100 episodes now missing. A fan-made website named JREMissing, which compares a list of Joe Rogan Experience episodes available on the platform to a database of all the ones that have ever been recorded, was the first to make the discovery. Episodes removed include guests like Amy Schumer, Ari Shaffir, Bert Kreischer, Brian Redban, Maynard James Keenan, Michael Malice, Russell Peters, Theo Von, and Tom Segura — some of whom are regular guests. Spotify hasn’t explained the reason behind the decision yet. However, CEO Daniel Ek denied they were fueled by the backlash. He also stated Rogan isn’t above policy rules despite his importance to them. “I think the important part here is that we don’t change our policies based on one creator nor do we change it based on any media cycle, or calls from anyone else,” he said during a company earnings report.

Spotify listeners panic as Joe Rogan, Charli D’Amelio & other podcasts suddenly disappear Instagram: Charli D’Amelio / YouTube: PowerfulJRE / SpotifyOn January 21, Spotify listeners across the net were shocked to see that a number of podcasts were removed from the platform, including such personalities as Joe Rogan, Charli D’Amelio, and more. [jwplayer pNjHVqy4] Spotify is one of the world’s most popular music streaming platforms – but it’s more than just a music listening service. A vast array of personalities have scored exclusive podcast deals with the website, further bolstering the platform’s already impressive library of content. However, on January 21, 2021, listeners were surprised to find that they couldn’t access their favorite podcasts, as nearly all of them have seemingly disappeared from the net. It’s not just small-time podcasts, either; TikTok stars Charli and Dixie D’Amelio’s ‘2 Chix’ podcast was suddenly removed, as well as Joe Rogan’s ‘Joe Rogan Experience,’ which notably scored an exclusive deal with the site last year. https://twitter.com/MacauMafia/status/1352362666640236545?s=20 It’s not just the desktop website that isn’t working; the mobile app is also having troubles, with users being met with a message that claims “something went wrong.” Some users, however, have found that the problem can be fixed by logging out and logging back into their accounts. At the time of writing, there’s no official reason why the podcasts have gone missing, leaving users stressed out and confused until a reply is released.

Spotify denies Joe Rogan controversy cost them millions of subscribers – Dexerto
Spotify denies Joe Rogan controversy cost them millions of subscribers Spotify/Joe RoganSpotify has denied that the controversy around Joe Rogan is the reason they’ve lost over 1 million subscribers recently, despite all the backlash surrounding the podcast host. Over the last few years, the Joe Rogan Experience has grown to become the biggest podcast on the planet, with Spotify handing over a shed load of cash to make it exclusive to their platform. While Rogan’s show has had its positive for the streaming service, there have also been issues too. The comedian has been plunged into controversy for comments made about the global health situation as well as previous statements that had been labeled as racist. Despite calls to rip up the deal with Rogan, Spotify have defended the UFC commentator but also made a few changes to the show – with over 100 historic episodes being removed from their airwaves and a disclaimer now appearing on some episodes. While Spotify’s market value took a massive hit during the Rogan controversy, the platform was still outperforming expectations for growth during Q1. As per Variety, Spotify CFO Paul Vogel noted that the platform is restricting premium access in Russia due to the invasion of Ukraine, meaning that they’d lose around 1.5 million paying users. Speaking at Morgan Stanley’s 2022 Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference, Vogel did allude to Rogan’s controversy causing a bit of turbulence, but nothing like the numbers they’ve lost recently. “Going through a little bit of controversy, there’s always going to be some impact,” Spotify’s CFO said, though he didn’t mention Rogan by name. As noted, the deal between Rogan and Spotify has been pretty beneficial for both parties, as the podcast still manages to bring in massive listener figures. The calls to shut the deal down have not subsided, and likely won’t anytime soon, but it seems as Spotify remains unfazed by it.

Spotify explain why they won’t censor Joe Rogan podcast episodes YouTube: JRE ClipsSpotify CEO Daniel Ek believes the music platform does not have editorial responsibility for the Joe Rogan Podcast when it comes to censoring controversial topics or viewpoints. Ever since it launched all the way back in 2009, the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast has dealt with a huge range of topics, much to the delight of fans. The UFC commentator has brought on esports stars to give him a better insight into their background, movie stars to discuss the rigors of filming, and of course, he gets into wild and wacky conspiracies too. Some theories and viewpoints have landed Rogan in hot water on several occasions in the past, and Spotify was accused of censoring him when they brought his podcast over, given that some previous podcast uploads were missing from his back catalog. While Rogan himself has said that Spotify doesn’t have too much of a handle on his content, and he’s working with them to improve things like the video side of the shows, the platform has now weighed in. Speaking to Axios, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek was quizzed on whether he believed the streaming service has “editorial responsibility” over the podcast, given they’ve brought it under their umbrella, and whether or not they can censor it. “Joe Rogan is just one out of eight million creators on the platform,” Ek stated. “We have a lot of really well-paid rappers on Spotify too that make tens of millions of dollars, if not more, each year from Spotify. And, we don’t dictate what they’re putting in their songs either.” Timestamp of 5:20 While some fans will, undoubtedly, disagree with the Spotify CEO, he’s at least moved to clear a few things up. The JRE Podcast continues to go from strength to strength on the streaming platform, with Spotify making similar moves for other shows as they look to corner the podcast space.

Spotify CEO admits Joe Rogan is “offensive” but won’t drop JRE Podcast – Dexerto
Spotify CEO admits Joe Rogan is “offensive” but won’t drop JRE Podcast Spotify/Joe RoganSpotify CEO Daniel Ek has admitted that there is some “very offensive” material in Joe Rogan’s podcast that he doesn’t agree with, but the show doesn’t appear to be going anywhere soon. The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast has been in production since the end of 2009, and it has grown to be arguably the biggest podcast in the world. As a result of that, the UFC commentator and his team signed a $100 million deal to sell the podcast’s exclusive rights to Spotify. Though, the move hasn’t been all plain sailing. While Spotify has stated that they wouldn’t interfere with or censor any shows, fans have complained about a number of backlogged episodes not appearing on the streaming service. With Rogan coming under fire in recent months for some controversial takes on the global health pandemic, so too has Spotify. The streaming service has been under pressure from many to do something about Rogan’s show – with some complaints suggesting they should not only censor it, but rid themselves of the show altogether. That, though, doesn’t seem to be the answer. According to The Verge, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek admitted to some employees that he does take issue with part of the shows, but change doesn’t appear to be forthcoming. “There are many things that Joe Rogan says that I strongly disagree with and find very offensive,” the Swede said during an employee town hall. However, if Spotify wants to achieve its “bold ambitions,” Ek noted that “it will mean having content on Spotify that many of us may not be proud to be associated with.” According to Ek, this doesn’t mean that “anything goes,” but “there will be opinions, ideas, and beliefs that we disagree with strongly and even makes us angry or sad.” The platform has already made one change to things, as they’ll now be putting disclaimers on some Rogan shows. However, it remains to be seen if there will be bigger changes.

Spotify CEO hits back at calls to “cancel” Joe Rogan amid JRE racism controversy – Dexerto
Spotify CEO hits back at calls to “cancel” Joe Rogan amid JRE racism controversy Spotify: Joe Rogan / Wikimedia CommonsSpotify CEO Daniel Ek sent a letter to employees on February 6 apologizing for Joe Rogan’s “hurtful” comments. However, he refused to “cancel” him, saying it isn’t the answer. Joe Rogan and his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, have been a source of controversy as of late. In January 2022, he was accused of spreading misinformation after having controversial guests on his show. Then, he came under fire for using racial slurs in past episodes after old footage surfaced. Rogan accepted responsibility for his comments, describing them as “idiotic.” However, he insisted they were taken out of context. In the midst of the backlash, Spotify quietly removed more than 70 episodes of his podcast, following on from the 40 they removed in April 2021. Spotify CEO Daniel Ek addressed the issue in a letter to his employees. He condemned Rogan’s comments and revealed the podcast host was the one who decided to remove episodes. However, he also refused to “cancel” him. “We’ve had conversations with Joe and his team about some of the content in his show, including his history of using some racially insensitive language,” said Ek. “Following these discussions and his own reflections, he chose to remove a number of episodes from Spotify. “While I strongly condemn what Joe has said, and I agree with his decision to remove past episodes from our platform, I realize some will want more. And I want to make one point very clear – I do not believe that silencing Joe is the answer. Ek admitted the company needs to have “clear lines” around content and “take action” when those lines are crossed. However, he reiterated his desire to not deplatform Rogan, saying: “Canceling voices is a slippery slope.” The reason is he believes “critical thinking” and “open debate” are what powers “real and necessary progress,” — implying these are positive aspects of the podcast. However, he vowed to promote “more speech on more issues” on the platform, too. At the end of the letter, Ek revealed the company will soon invest $100 million to promote “the licensing, development, and marketing of music (artists and songwriters) and audio content from historically marginalized groups.” He also acknowledged the importance of listening to people inside and outside of Spotify and said the company would ramp up efforts to consult with “outside experts” to help balance creator expression with user safety.

Spotify buys music-based Wordle clone ‘Heardle’ – Dexerto
Spotify buys music-based Wordle clone ‘Heardle’ SpotifyPopular music streaming platform Spotify revealed that they have purchased Heardle, a wordle clone that has players guess the song. In early January 2022, Wordle began taking over social media timelines as players shared their attempts to guess the “word of the day.” Less than a month later, the game was purchased by The New York Times for over a million dollars. Since then, dozens of clones have popped up. One of those games is Heardle, a clone that has users guess a song based on a short clip, and its met the same fate as Wordle as the game has been acquired by Spotify. Spotify purchases Heardle Revealed on July 12 in a Spotify blog post, the popular music streaming platform explained that they are set to acquire Heardle. Heardle gives players the task to guess a song based on its opening notes. They’re given six guesses, and every guess gives the player a few more seconds to help them form their answer. The song eventually gets fully revealed, whether there’s a successful guess or not. “Passion for music runs deep—and so does showing off those skills in musical trivia. Millions do just that with Heardle, a daily music game,” the company explained. “And at Spotify, we love all things music—and all things music trivia—which is why we’re excited to announce that the beloved interactive music trivia game will be joining Spotify.” Existing fans of the game don’t need to fret, as Spotify also mentioned in the blog that the look and feel of the game will remain the same — much like the transition Wordle went through after its NYT purchase. However, the company has already begun to deploy improvements to the game. Players will be able to listen to the full song of the day on Spotify as soon as they finish the game — and they promise more features to come “down the road.” Users in the U.S., U.K., Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand will be able to access these new features immediately.

Spotify and Alex Cooper sign $60M deal for Call Her Daddy podcast – Dexerto
Spotify and Alex Cooper sign $60M deal for Call Her Daddy podcast Sarah KrickSpotify has made news of a new $60 million deal with Alexandra Cooper to bring her Call Her Daddy show from Barstool Sports to their platform officially public — making it one of the biggest podcast deals in recent memory. Cooper has been hosting Call Her Daddy on Barstool since it came out in 2018, but starting in July 2021, the show will have a brand new home on Spotify. Along with the official press release from the streaming platform itself, the host also celebrated the new deal on Twitter- as we would too, if news that we had become eight figures richer were being made public. https://twitter.com/callherdaddy/status/1404803385468010501?s=20 According to a report from Variety, Cooper’s new deal is worth $60 million over the next three years. This isn’t as much as Joe Rogan’s $100 million deal from 2020, but it’s still a nice chunk of change – and plenty of reason to leave Barstool, which reportedly wasn’t involved in the deal at all. Fans shouldn’t worry about not being able to listen anymore though, as all existing and new episodes will continue to be free. However, starting on July 21, the podcast will only be available on Spotify. “From its start three years ago, the show has always been about challenging the status-quo and manifesting conversations that previously only happened behind closed doors,” Cooper said. “I can’t wait for this next chapter with Spotify, where I will continue raising the bar with great content and guests for the Daddy Gang.” has been on the air since 2018, and as we mentioned, it was a part of Barstool until the Spotify deal happened. Instead of working with Barstool Sports, the streaming service will be co-producing the show with Cooper going forward. The podcast isn’t the only thing the deal covers though; in addition to having all future episodes that come out put on their platform, it also covers “additional exclusive new projects in development” Cooper is currently working on with Spotify. What are those exactly? We’ll just have to wait and see to find out.

Spotify boss breaks silence on Joe Rogan’s new $250 million deal – Dexerto
Spotify boss breaks silence on Joe Rogan’s new $250 million deal Joe Rogan YouTube / SpotifySpotify CEO Daniel Ek has broken his silence on Joe Rogan’s new deal with the streaming platform as the Joe Rogan Experience is no longer exclusive to Spotify. Back in May 2020, Joe Rogan announced that his Joe Rogan Experience Podcast would be going exclusive to Spotify and no longer being uploaded to YouTube, Apple, and everywhere else it was previously. The massive deal prompted a few changes from Spotify too, including a video element. While they haven’t had creative control over the podcast, a number of episodes from Rogan’s back catalog aren’t streaming on Spotify. Additionally, amid controversial comments over the global health situation, some episodes are now hit with a disclaimer. There had been talk that, when Rogan’s contract was up in early 2024, he’d be leaving Spotify for good. However, that hasn’t been the case. The UFC commentator penned a new multi-year deal worth a reported $250 million in early February – a $150 million increase on his initial deal. Spotify CEO talks Joe Rogan’s new $250 million deal That deal, which is only being described as “multi-year” in length, will allow Rogan to upload episodes of The JRE to other platforms once again – which had been rumored shortly after his episode with Elon Musk. With such a hefty price tag put on the deal, Spotify losing the exclusive rights to Rogan might be seen as a negative move by some. However, that’s not the case with CEO Daniel Ek. “By broadening distribution, we think we can accomplish a number of different goals. Most notable among them, we are going to be aligned with the creator,” Ek told Spotify investors on February 6. “The creator wants to be on many different platforms and wants to have as big of an audience as possible.” The Spotify CEO has been a fan of Rogan for quite some time, defending the podcast host amid controversies as well. With the JRE going back to other platforms, he may no longer dominate the Spotify charts as he has for the last four years, but it is still going to be absolutely massive.

Spirit passenger fights police officers after airport feud sparks melee on flight – Dexerto
Spirit passenger fights police officers after airport feud sparks melee on flight X/ImpactoNewsCol/fl360aeroA ridiculous budget airline fight broke out on a flight to Florida after a heated argument at the airport between passengers boiled over. Flight freakouts are becoming more and more common, with passengers screaming about “not real” people and even brutal fisticuffs. The latest incident happened during a flight from Colombia to Florida where, according to Outkick, a Polish man got into an argument with another passenger at Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport. After getting on the plane, all hell broke loose as the Polish man tried to take on the other passenger and ended up scrapping with police officers instead. Drunk passenger brawls with police officers in Spirit brouhaha In footage uploaded by ImpactoNews, multiple police officers tried to escort the man off the flight, only to get their heads battered when punches started being thrown. “F**k you!” the passenger screamed after elbowing one officer and grappling with others in the middle of the plane. Eventually, the cops managed to restrain the upset individual and got him off the plane, but it was a rather difficult task that ended up turning quite physical as he decided to attack. A police spokesman said the Polish man was upset with the recent results of a custody case, which is why he was so upset. Add in the alcohol, and the situation was a recipe for disaster. This is hardly the first time a brawl has broken out on a plane and it likely won’t be the last. Back in March, two men started throwing down on a Southwest flight after someone’s wife was bumped into by another passenger. In December, a flier was knocked out and kicked off a flight after challenging a man to a fight, because he was upset that he was filming on the plane. Spider-Man Miles Morales NPC TikToker confronted for filming on private property – Dexerto
Spider-Man Miles Morales NPC TikToker confronted for filming on private property TikTok/leaks._.worldPopular Miles Morales NPC TikToker ‘Leaks World’ refused to break his Spider-Man character even as security demanded he leave during a recent live broadcast. ‘Leaks World’ has taken the NPC TikTok trend by storm with his rendition of Miles Morales and with the character a big part of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PS5 game, a lot more people are being introduced to his content. Despite his popularity and massive following, the web-slinger had a brutal confrontation with security during a TikTok Live for alleging being on private property. In a series of clips taken from the stream, Leaks World was doing his standard Spider-Man content in front of thousands of viewers when a security guard showed up and demanded he move away. Security gets heated with Spider-Man NPC TikToker In the middle of the stream, a security guard approached Leaks World and requested that he stay off of private property, asking him nicely to move away. “If you’re over there and anywhere on that property, that’s private property,” the guard said, admitting that there was a gray area between where he was filming and where the private property area began. “This is public property, the sidewalk, right?” Leaks World stated, grabbing his camera and showing his chat that he was on a sidewalk. “I’m here to respect the rules. My dad works for the police. This is just what I do.” A bit later, the security returned, explaining that his “command” wanted to speak with the TikToker about moving, but instead of complying, Leaks World remained in character. “Nah, I’m gonna do my own thing,” he said and continued to interact with chat, ignoring the security who grew increasingly impatient. However, this seemed to only attract more viewers, as the TikToker jumped to over 20,000 watchers. “I need you to move over there,” the security tried again, revealing that his name was Dylan. “Do you know who I am?” the Spider-Man impersonator shot back. “I’m Miles Morales. I’m not a TikToker, I’m Miles Morales. I save lives every day and this is how you’re gonna treat me?” Eventually, it seems like the security guard gave up, especially once Leaks World started thanking him for pushing his live viewer count over 26,000. It’s not clear if there were any additional issues with the broadcast, but the TikToker responded to a clip of the altercation commenting “standing on business” to a slew of laughing emojis. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse meets My Hero Academia in epic comic crossover – Dexerto
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse meets My Hero Academia in epic comic crossover Viz Media / MarvelWith ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ winning Best Animated Feature at the 2019 Academy Awards, it comes as no surprise that another best-selling superhero franchise would find its way into the mix. [Caution: Spoilers ahead!] Artist ‘oroxoss’ shared a unique melding of ‘Spider-Verse’ and anime/manga series ‘My Hero Academia’ in a Reddit post on March 13, which showed an epic rendition of one of ‘Spider-Verse’s’ key scenes. In the comic, ‘My Hero’s’ main character, Deku, takes the place of Miles Morales, who learns to embrace his special powers at the encouragement of All Might (replacing Peter Parker). “All Might, when will I know I’m ready?” Deku asks, quoting Miles Morales’ line from the movie. “You won’t, Young Midoriya,” All Might answers. “It’s just a leap of faith.” Read More: YouTube tattoo artist Romeo Lacoste accused of sending inappropriate messages to underage fans – The comic also features a unique look into Deku’s ‘Spider-Man’ rendition, featuring a casual, green outfit with a mask and red sneakers. It makes sense that oroxoss would choose to combine these two insanely popular superhero universes – in fact, the artist even teased a possible continuation of the comic, as told by their comment under the post. “I originally planned on just doing this as a one-time fan art with this scene, but if ever I can think of another scene that works well with BNHA characters, then I might do more,” oroxoss wrote. The ‘My Hero’ x ‘Spider-Verse’ crossover is also fitting, as ‘My Hero’s’ mangaka Kohei Horikoshi even cited Spider-Man as one of his favorite superheroes at San Diego Comic Con in July 2018. A ‘Spider-Verse’ sequel and spinoff series are already in the works, while ‘My Hero’ season four is set to air in October of 2019.

For most runners, timing is the most important thing, but when he had a few extra seconds, he decided to bring out a popular meme and troll the audience. Spider-Man breaks up a brawl while Batman records in ridiculous viral TikTok – Dexerto
Spider-Man breaks up a brawl while Batman records in ridiculous viral TikTok Marvel, Insomniac / TikTok: diice_queen_ofkarmaWe all know that Spider-Man and Batman hail from different comic universes, but it looks like the two joined forces in a hilarious TikTok that captured the true chaotic spirit of New York’s Times Square. Street performers are not a new sight for regulars in heavily-trafficked tourist areas across America, and Times Square is no different; but a sudden brawl brought together two cosplayers for a completely unexpected turn of events that took the internet by storm. A Spider-Man and Batman duo were perusing around Times Square when two bystanders started to scuffle. In a TikTok capturing the whole ordeal, a shirtless man pushing a cart can be seen taking a long metal pole from his belongings before approaching a man in a hoodie. The two get into a brief physical altercation before being separated by none other than Spider-Man (well, technically, Miles Morales), drawing a laugh from onlookers, one of whom yelled, “Yo, Spider-Man just saved this ****!” It looks like there’s no bad blood between the hero and the offender, as Morales gave the shirtless man a good-natured embrace before he took off — and that’s when the camera panned to show off another hilarious facet of the situation. Read More: How to use TikTok’s text-to-speech voice – Standing to the side was a Batman cosplayer, who filmed the entire altercation on his phone, appearing completely unbothered by the unfolding scuffle. “You supposed to be in there!” another onlooker yelled, pointing at the filming Bruce Wayne. Although initially penned on the pages of comic books, this humorous altercation just goes to show how much of an impact superheroes have on the real world… although some of these moments are funnier than others. The short video has since gone viral on TikTok, raking in over 87,000 likes and over 577,000 views in just five days thanks to the kindness of a cosplayer — and with a little help from the perfect comedic timing of his friend.

Speedrunner claims he was kicked out of hotel at GDQ after being assaulted – Dexerto
Speedrunner claims he was kicked out of hotel at GDQ after being assaulted Facebook / Games Done QuickSpeedrunning competitor Dr. Fatbody has claimed that he was forcibly removed from the hotel hosting the 2019 Summer Games Done Quick event, after he was the victim of a random violent assault. Dr. Fatbody, real name Kevin, was in attendance at the SGDQ 2019 event in Bloomington, Minnesota, when he claims the random assailant “sucker punched” him eight times at the bar. Hotel staff at the DoubleTree by Hilton had him removed, according to series of tweets posted by Dr. Fatbody on June 26, despite the event staff at GDQ apparently being on his “side”. Making matters worse, Dr. Fatbody claims that the attacker was provided a shuttle to the airport rather than being arrested, while he, despite apparently being the victim of the assault, was simply kicked out. Additionally, he alleges that the attacker was selling drugs on the premises, and shared a photo of two men, one of which he says was the perpetrator, although doesn’t make clear which of the two mean he is referring to. The event has not been void of controversy in the past though, with another speedrunner banned from the ‘Awesome Games Done Quick’ event in January, after allegations of sexual harassment. On this occasion, it appears it is the hotel staff, rather than representatives from the GDQ team, that are responsible for what Dr. Fatbody claims to have happened. He has confirmed on Twitter that he enjoyed the event regardless, and he will be back next time too. Dexerto has reached out to both parties for comment.

Spanish Twitch streamer Ibai smashes 1 million viewers ahead of boxing event – Dexerto
Spanish Twitch streamer Ibai smashes 1 million viewers ahead of boxing event Ibai / Twitch / SullyGnomeSpanish Twitch star Ibai smashed a Twitch milestone after his channel quickly garnered over 1 million viewers ahead of his ‘La Velada Del Año’ YouTube boxing event. Twitch’s all-time concurrent viewer record for a single stream came courtesy of TheGrefg ahead of his Fortnite Icon series skin reveal at 2,298,485 peak audience. At the time, Gregf actually broke his own record of about 660,000 for the Fortnite Galactus event. Spanish streamers have been able to destroy records on the platform, and now the latest YouTube boxing event has propelled Ibai’s name on the all-time list. While he didn’t quite surpass TheGregf’s record, Ibai has amassed 1,502,295 active viewers, according to Twitch data site SullyGnome. Ibai was about 800,000 viewers shy from his fellow Spaniard, but he officially became only the second Twitch streamer to crack 1 million in peak viewership. He joins his countryman at the top of an enormous Twitch mountain. The next closes would be Ninja for his 2018 Fortnite stream when he teamed up with music artist Drake. That stream was short of 1 million viewers by getting about 635,000 viewers – a huge accomplishment on its own. But Ibai’s La Velada Del Año, which featured YouTubers Reven, The Millor, Future, Bullfighter, Mister Jägger, and By Viruzz facing off in three bouts, was enough to crack seven-digits worth of views. What’s next for Ibai? The Twitch milestone might have gotten a bump in traction when Ibai tweeted out that he would get into the ring in the next boxing event. “If today we reach 1 million viewers at some point in the live stream,” he proposed. “I personally promise to organize another evening on May 26, 2022 and fight myself.” Of course, that number was easily broken on the day of the fight, and he later confirmed that he was going to put the gloves up himself. Ibai says he already has “a couple of rivals” that he’s thinking about challenging. While it should be a while until we get more information, people are already speculating on a potential bout between the only two streamers in Twitch’s 1 Million Club.

Spanish VTuber agency shuts down despite debuting new talents just three months ago – Dexerto
Spanish VTuber agency shuts down despite debuting new talents just three months ago Sedai OneSpanish VTuber agency Sedai One has unexpectedly shut down following the graduation of Aono Nemo despite it having debuted two new talents as recently as August 2023. While VTuber fans will be familiar with the Chinese, Indonesian, and English-speaking communities there is another international audience that often goes underappreciated. The Spanish-speaking community has always had a passion for anime which naturally translated across to VTubers once the industry grew big enough. This led to the emergence of agencies and branches dedicated to Spanish-speaking talents like V-Idol Project and Idol Corp ES. However, the Spanish VTuber community took a huge blow this week as one of its most prevalent agencies has pulled the plug. VTuber agency Sedai One suspends activities indefinitely As first announced on October 31, 2023, in a tweet that has since been removed along with its official Twitter account, Sedai One has shut down. Translated by Reddit user Soyunapina12, the post stated: “We thank you for the immense support given to all the talents during the last 2 years, however, it is our duty to announce that as of October 31, 2023, Sedai One will suspend its activities indefinitely and permanently.” “We respectfully call upon the entire community to avoid rumors and speculations related to the talents and anyone related to the company. The fate of the currently active talents will be communicated individually through their corresponding social media profiles,” the announcement revealed. The deleted tweet concluded with the Executive Director of Sedai One thanking the staff and talents for their work in creating a “close-knit and diverse community.” Sedai One’s closure comes as a surprise with the agency having debuted two new talents as recently as August 2023: Eiwy Fley and Enya Yoruneko. The agency’s remaining talents were given the option to continue using their existing name and model as independent VTubers. Anastasia White, Eiwy Fley, and Enya Yoruneko have all chosen to take this path while Aono Nemo has instead rebranded her Twitter and YouTube account to ‘Ava Ch’.

Spanish Twitch star TheGrefg hosts his own Streamer Awards to staggering viewership – Dexerto
Spanish Twitch star TheGrefg hosts his own Streamer Awards to staggering viewership Twitter: ThegrefgTheGrefg, a Spanish Twitch star, has been hosting his own Streamer Awards event on his own broadcast and the viewership he’s receiving is simply staggering. TheGrefg is a name you might have heard before, with over 11 million followers on his Twitch channel, the Spanish streamer has been making waves on the internet as a variety content creator. As the 7th most followed channel on Twitch, he took it upon himself to host his own streamer awards show in a similar style to QTCinderella’s, particularly for just Latin America and Spain, which takes up a good proportion of Twitch viewers and followership. The show so far has been a massive success, with over 1.7 million live viewers, people are clearly keen to watch and partake in the live event. This staggering figure doesn’t even account for the live audience that’s currently attending the event in person. With a massive auditorium filled and huge production value across the board, it’s easy to see why people would want to attend such a monumental event. The viewership number is indicative of a trend in Twitch viewership with the rise of Spanish streamers across the board. Streamers such as Ibai, Rubius, and Grefg have been taking up spots within the top 10 streamers in January 2023. Furthermore, a viewership of 1.6 million is absolutely nothing to scoff at, with The Game Award maintaining a consistent viewership of 2.8 million, TheGrefg’s event is comparable to arguably one of the biggest gaming shows of the year. Alongside Grefg, Spanish streamers hold the highest peak viewership on the streaming website, with Ibai in first place and Grefg coming in shortly thereafter.

Spanish Twitch star Rubius continues breaking records with Minecraft series premiere – Dexerto
Spanish Twitch star Rubius continues breaking records with Minecraft series premiere Twitch: RubiusSpanish Twitch star Rubius has surpassed his previous peak viewership numbers on the platform with more than 250,000 concurrent viewers tuning in for the premiere of his Minecraft Karmaland series. Rubén ‘Rubius’ Gundersen is a popular YouTube and Twitch streamer — but not in the English-speaking community. His rise to fame has been a steady climb but was able to really cement himself as one of the biggest streamers in the world in 2018 after going viral in Fortnite. Since then, he has gone on to become a juggernaut of Twitch and is currently the third most-followed personality on the platform. His dominance isn’t stopping there as he reaches for new heights with his content, starting with his Karmaland series in Minecraft. First announced via Twitter on June 30, the premiere was set to go live on July 9 but was ultimately postponed to the following day due to server issues. However, the hype was so big that the July 9 pre-premiere was the event that broke Rubius’s all-time peak viewership record for Twitch. Stats website Sullygnome reported at the height of the stream, Rubius had 372,079 concurrent viewers tuning in. This number is also a giant jump up from his regular viewership numbers, with the Spanish streamer averaging 50,880 in the last month. Karmaland is one of the most iconic content series of all time in gaming. It brings popular Spanish Minecraft streamers together to cohabit in the Minecraft Village of Karmaland. This is the fifth edition of the series, with the very first Karmaland taking place way back in 2014. So far there are nine members who are participating in Karmaland V. These players are Alexby11, Fargan, LOLITOFDEZ, Luzu, Mangel, Rubius, StaXx, Vegetta777, and Willyrex. There are also rumours that Twitch icons Ibai and Auronplay may be appearing during the series as well. The series is also bringing overall Minecraft numbers up on Twitch. On top of breaking Rubius’ personal records, the premiere of Karmaland V is doing wonders for the game’s overall viewership. The decade-old game currently sits at 12th on Twitch with more than 16 million hours watched this month so far. The game has also been getting a lot of attention and love in honor of Minecraft Youtuber Technoblade’s passing.

Spanish streamers are taking over Twitch: ibai, auronplay & more dominate – Dexerto
Spanish streamers are taking over Twitch: ibai, auronplay & more dominate Twitch, Twitch: ibai, auronplayAs Twitch continues to grow, it turns out the Spanish speaking content creators are topping the fastest growing streamer charts. Despite a rocky few weeks for Twitch in the wake of the “A Day Off Twitch” boycott, the entertainment platform continues to dominate its competitors. As we see the likes of Asmongold skyrocket in popularity once more in the English sphere, it turns out that some of the biggest names on Twitch hail from a very different part of the world. Spanish speaking Twitch stars have seen a huge growth throughout September, and they’ll be rivialling the platform’s dominant language if they continue on this upward trajectory. Spanish streamers are dominating Twitch stats A recent report from TwitchMetrics has revealed that seven of the top ten “fastest growing Twitch streamers” for September, 2021, are Spanish. Aside from Apex Legends star iiTzTimmy, Just Chatting streamer ibabyrainbow, and the official Genshin Impact Twitch channel, every other content creator is Spanish. Iconic streamer ibai leads the pack with a 754,177 follower increase, which can likely be attributed to his fun-filled content featuring football legend Lionel Messi. Beneath him in second, we have Minecraft streamer Auronplay with 583,375 new followers, and juansguarnizo takes fourth spot with 441,627. Considering that Twitch is primarily known to cater towards an English speaking audience, this growth is absolutely staggering. When put into context, though, this really isn’t all that surprising. According to language learning website Babbel, Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world with around 471 million native speakers. English, in comparison, is the third most spoken language, with a projected 370 million native speakers. Considering that the platform does cater to a global audience, it’s therefore not really a shock that Spanish streams are beginning to rise in prominence. Will they continue to surge in follower count, though, or is this just a one off? Only time will tell.

Spanish streamer ‘MarkiLokurasY’ permanently banned from Twitch – Dexerto
Spanish streamer ‘MarkiLokurasY’ permanently banned from Twitch Twitter: markilokurasyOne of the most followed Spanish Twitch streamers ‘MarkiLokurasY’ has been permanently banned from the platform after violating Twitch’s sexual content guidelines on stream. Whether it’s revealing too much or clicking on a link that somebody posted in chat, streamers tend to make a lot of mistakes by violating Twitch’s sexual content guidelines. Usually, when Twitch’s sexual content rules are violated, it leads to the streamer taking a short three-day suspension, but for the Spanish Twitch streamer known as MarkiLokurasY, a three-day vacation would’ve been his best outcome. Marcos “MarkiLokurasY” Barragan Rosado has amassed over 1.4M followers on Twitch over the years from playing Fortnite, making him one of the biggest Spanish streamers. But being one of the most followed streamers doesn’t protect you from Twitch’s terms of service. On August 13, MarkiLokurasY was streaming Fortnite like usual. That was until he was mysteriously hit with his third Twitch ban. With consideration of the streamer’s previous controversial bans in mind, viewers began speculating as to what actually happened. MarkiLokurasY eventually revealed why he was banned in a tweet shortly after news broke about his ban. They have banned me permanently because in a live show a week ago a guy came out jumping rope naked, I thought it was an edit and I still think about it but that’s why. I swear to you that I have been streaming daily for 10 or more hours and I have done my best to prevent this from happening, I’m sorry.” The streamer went onto say in another tweet “I’m going to take some time, okay? I’m sorry to all of you who came in every day to see me, it’s not in my hand“. Voy a tomarme un tiempo vale? Lo siento a todos los que entrabais a diario a verme, no esta en mi mano — Marki : ) (@MarkiLokurasY) August 13, 2021 With it being his third Twitch ban in two years, a permanent ban was to be expected. It’s unclear what the streamer’s next plan of action will be, but with YouTube and Facebook becoming more prominent platforms to stream on, we may see him on there sometime in the future.

Spanish streamers Auronplay and Rubius on track to overtake Ninja in Twitch followers – Dexerto
Spanish streamers Auronplay and Rubius on track to overtake Ninja in Twitch followers Twitch: Ninja, Rubius, AuronplayTop Spanish Twitch streamers Auronplay and Rubius are fast on course to overtake streaming superstar Ninja in followers on the platform, as their rise to success shows no signs of slowing down. Ninja has long been recognized as one of the biggest streamers on Twitch, breaking into the mainstream thanks to his Fortnite stardom and streams with the likes of Drake. He even appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show in April 2022 to talk about his career and his new rebrand. Looking outside of North America though, there are huge communities building around non-English speaking streamers, and this is most prominent in Spain. While Ninja is the most followed streamer on Twitch, Auronplay and Rubius are hot on his heels in second and third place respectively — and may overtake him sooner rather than later. According to data from Twitch stat tracker SullyGnome, both Spaniards are growing in followers at an insane rate, far usurping Ninja’s follower growth over the last 30 days. Read More: Top 20 most-followed Twitch streamers – At the time of writing, Ninja has around 17.5m followers on Twitch, and in the last 30 days, the figure has grown by around 70,000. This would be impressive to most, but compared to Auronplay and Rubius, it’s next to nothing. Auronplay has 12.5m followers and Rubius has 11.7m, but in the last 30 days, they’ve grown by 373k and 236k followers respectively. At that rate of growth, Auronplay could be looking at hitting 20 million followers in under 2 years, while it would take Ninja around 3 years to hit the same milestone at his current pace. By comparison, Rubius — who is almost 6m followers behind Ninja — could reach 20m followers around the same time as him. The Spanish Twitch community is clearly a very strong one, with fans showing the utmost support for their favorite streamers, and before long we could see the Spaniards flying high atop the Twitch follower rankings.

Spanish star uppercuts Kick viewership records with influencer boxing event – Dexerto
Spanish star uppercuts Kick viewership records with influencer boxing event Twitter: Stream FightersA Colombian star streamer has taken Kick’s number one position, breaking viewership records with their ‘Stream Fighters 2’ influencer boxing event. Colombian streamer Luis Fernando Villa Álvarez, better known by his internet alias WestCOL, has just made history after breaking Kick’s viewership records, overthrowing Adin Ross’ record. Just last week, Adin Ross broke Kick’s viewership records with a stream where he interviewed a fake Kim Jong Un, reaching a peak of 333,506 concurrents, a record at the time. However, just one week after his feat, WestCOL’s influencer boxing event, Stream Fighters 2, has broken Kick’s records once again. According to Stream Charts, WestCOL’s broadcast of the event reached a jaw-dropping 806,667 viewers at its peak, miles away from Adin’s stream. The event was exclusively streamed on Kick, and the combat sports event featured several high-profile Spanish-speaking streamers from Latin America, many of whom stream on Kick, facing off against each other in the ring. The event comes as Kick is ramping up its streamer signings, especially in the Spanish streaming world. In just the past week leading up to the event, Kick signed three different Spanish streamers onto their platform. The competition was billed as historic by WestCOL and Kick, marketing it as an event to remember for the Colombian and Latin American streaming world. WestCOL tweeted after the event ended, “Thank you very much! They don’t know how much we work to do this in Latin America, this event was months of work.” The historic stream followed a messy week for Kick which saw the platform catch controversies due to its streamers. From Johnny Somali getting arrested in Japan, and Ice Poseidon’s hiring of an escort live on stream leading to a swatting.

Spanish Twitch star ‘Grefg’ has been banned from the platform after accidentally showing a video on stream that broke the site’s community guidelines. Grefg is a popular face among Spanish Twitch viewers, boasting over 14.2 million subscribers on his YouTube alone due to his humorous Minecraft content, Fortnite games and collaborations with other broadcasters. However, Grefg’s streaming schedule took a sharp turn on July 3, with the Streamer Bans Twitter account confirming that the Spaniard had been banned from the site. Fans took to social media to discover the reason for his suspension, which Grefg explained in a Tweet of his own shortly thereafter. According to the streamer, he’d been banned for a 24-hour period from the platform due to an issue during an event in his Minecraft stream. “I have officially been banned from Twitch,” the broadcaster wrote, as told via a Google translation on Twitter. “The ban will be in effect for 24 hours, and it was from a troll video that we ate at a Calvaland event. I accept and respect the decision of Twitch, since I think that with the greatest they are the ones with whom we must set an example.” — Grefg =) (@TheGrefg) July 3, 2020 Although we cannot show the “troll” video in question here, viewers posted a clip that appears to be from the offending moment that took place during Grefg’s stream, which showed some less-than-savory material that broke Twitch’s Community Guidelines. While it seems that the shocking video popped up during his on-stream foray into YouTube, without the streamer’s intention of showing such content, he appears to agree with his punishment, and will return to the platform after his 24-hour ban is complete. This ban comes as a huge shock to fans, as the Spanish streamer became one of the fastest-growing channels on Twitch in fall 2019, despite only starting his channel in October. https://www.instagram.com/p/B-DY8lmppSg/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Being the fourth most-watched Spanish channel on the platform at the time, and breaking into the top 150 most-watched channels as a whole, it seemed like Grefg was on the fast-track to success. In spite of his ban, his fanbase is highly supportive of the streamer, who will continue to have a huge viewerbase in spite of his current 24-hour down period.

Spanish Fortnite streamer TheGrefg breaks own record for most-viewed Twitch stream – Dexerto
Spanish Fortnite streamer TheGrefg breaks own record for most-viewed Twitch stream TheGrefg/TwitchAhead of the reveal of his own Fortnite Icon Series skin, streamer TheGrefg shattered the Twitch all-time concurrent viewer record, which he previously hit himself back in December during the Fortnite Galactus event, reaching over 2.5 million viewers during it’s peak. Soon, Fortnite streamer and YouTuber TheGrefg will be getting his very own skin in the battle royale game, which is sure to please longtime viewers and fans. To hype up the skin, he began streaming a few hours before the skins official reveal and during that time, he ended up breaking his own record for most-viewed Twitch stream. The previous record, which was also set by him, was 660,000 viewers. During the stream on January 11, however, TheGrefg was able to reach over 2.5 million viewers, completely shattering the previous records. What’s all the more impressive is that TheGrefg garnered most of those viewers before the actual skin reveal even took place. The viewership peaked, however, when it hit 2.5 million. For reference, this means that the streamer beat out his previous record by over 1.7 million viewers. Read More: When is TheGrefg’s Fortnite skin coming out? – TheGrefg previously broke the record for most-viewed stream during the Fortnite Galacus event in early December 2020, which was previously held by Ninja, but at the time he just barely squeaked by, only surpassing it by around 10,000 viewers. While that was still impressive back then, this new record obviously takes the cake. While the skin itself is pretty cool, especially for fans of the Spanish streamer, the fact that he was able to not only make a new record, but completely shatter it is insanely impressive, and arguably dwarfed the news about the skin in and of itself. Considering it took this long for an individual streamer to hit over 2 million, it’s safe to say that this sort of record probably won’t be beaten again for a very long time. That being said, who knows, maybe TheGrefg will blow everyone away again in a few months and break this record. Only time will tell.

Southwest Airlines worker goes viral for brutally honest airport warning – Dexerto
Southwest Airlines worker goes viral for brutally honest airport warning Unsplash.com: Nick Morales / TikTok: kterrell27A worker for Southwest Airlines is taking TikTok by storm after several flyers recorded her brutally honest warning for passengers needing to check their bags at the last minute. Air travel is never a totally pleasant experience — especially for those without TSA pre-check. From waiting in long queues at security to dealing with sudden delays and more, flying can test even the patients of saints… so when one airport worker let loose some steam over the mic, some passengers couldn’t help but let out a laugh. Two videos uploaded by separate passengers are taking TikTok by storm after they caught a worker for Southwest Airlines giving a no-nonsense PSA for folks with oversized bags that wouldn’t fit in the cabin’s overhead storage. “If you got something that won’t fit, you’re gonna have to check that,” she says. “And guess what? If you don’t check two bags over there at the counter, guess what you got to do? Give me a credit card, ’cause it’s gonna cost you $75.” “Anybody don’t understand that? Talk among yourselves and explain it, ’cause I ain’t gonna say it again. Any problems? Pray about it. It’s gonna work out.” Click here if TikTok fails to load. Throughout the video, viewers can hear the passengers chuckling at her speech, clearly amused and appreciative of her humorously blunt announcement. The videos capturing the moment have gone viral on TikTok, amassing 1.7 million and 1.6 million views, respectively — and commenters are loving it, too. Click here if TikTok fails to load. “She was hired specifically to deal with Karens,” one user joked. “I want her promoted,” another said. “If ‘try Jesus, not me,’ was a person,” another commenter wrote. Sure, flying can be a stressful experience… but when you’ve got airport staff like this, it’s hard not to enjoy the ride. At least it wasn’t as weird as this one passenger’s flight where someone closed their window with their bare foot.

Spanish CS:GO Streamer Smashes His Setup After Getting Kicked and Suspended for Team Killing – Dexerto
Spanish CS:GO Streamer Smashes His Setup After Getting Kicked and Suspended for Team Killing Getting kicked from a match in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive can be a frustrating thing, and everyone responds to it differently. In the case of Spanish streamer ‘TENSE1983,’ his reaction involved the violent smashing of his entire setup live on stream. TENSE1983 was playing CS:GO when he appeared to get into a verbal altercation with one of the players on his team, who was not following the instructions he was typing in the game chat. Just before choosing to team kill the player, the streamer can be heard saying the following in heavily accented English: “Green, green, what’s your problem green?! What is your problem? Me say alone ramp, me say alone ramp!” He was kicked from the match almost immediately, and a message can be seen at the top of his screen that shows he was given a 30 minute suspension from competitive play. What proceeded to follow was pure mayhem, as TENSE could not hold back his rage and frustration and smashed his setup to bits. Even the sound of the individual keys of his keyboard falling to the ground can be heard through the bedlam. The clip above has since gone viral, accumulating over 142K views on Twitch alone. Noticing how popular his fit of rage was getting, TENSE did tweet humorously about it a day later. What’s going on? Southwest Airlines passenger forced in wet seat as overhead luggage leaks during flight – Dexerto
Southwest Airlines passenger forced in wet seat as overhead luggage leaks during flight TikTok: pocketmouse35A Southwest Airlines passenger has been left outraged after flight attendants refused to move her despite overhead luggage leaking on her seat. While air travel may be the quickest way to reach your destination, catching a plane can come with its fair share of discontent. From sitting in a cramped seat for hours at a time to being stuck with rowdy and loud fliers, there are plenty of potential downsides that risk making the experience an unpleasant one. However, a passenger flying with Southwest Airlines may have just won the unlucky lottery after being seated directly below someone’s leaking overhead luggage. TikToker ‘pocketmouse35‘ took to the social media platform to share her experience on the flight, filming a mysterious yellow-tinged liquid tripping directly onto her seat. “[Point of view]: unidentified liquid drips from someone else’s bag on you the entire flight because the flight attendant says she can’t move you or the bag,” pocketmouse wrote across the video. As the staff onboard had refused to resolve the issue, pocketmouse stated in the caption that she would be “filing a claim” against the airline. TikTok users were shocked pocketmouse was forced to sit under the leak, one person writing, “The scene I would make! Absolutely not, y’all are either tossing that bag or I am!” “I mean if that’s your bag, don’t you wanna know so that you can contain this spill before everything in your bag gets ruined?” another pointed out. Luckily, pocketmouse updated concerned viewers in the comments and revealed that the airline had quickly gotten back to her after she filed a claim. Southwest Airlines passengers terrified after Boeing 737 flight loses engine cover – Dexerto
Southwest Airlines passengers terrified after Boeing 737 flight loses engine cover Unsplash: Emiel MolenaarSouthwest Airlines was forced to make an emergency landing after the engine cover on a Boeing 737-800 ripped apart during takeoff. Boeing planes have been the subject of much scrutiny after a series of incidents left flyers concerned about safety, from losing a tire during takeoff to an entire window panel blowing out mid-flight. Now it appears to have happened again after a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-800 flight from Denver was forced to make an emergency landing after an engine cover began to rip apart during takeoff. Passengers and crew onboard the Houston-bound flight noticed a removable sheet of metal covering called an engine cowling had torn loose, footage capturing it striking against one of the plane’s wing flaps. The flight returned to Denver International Airport, with a spokesperson for Southwest Airlines telling the New York Post that the flight “landed safely after experiencing a mechanical issue.” “Our Customers will arrive at Houston Hobby on another aircraft, approximately three hours behind schedule,” the statement continued. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is now investigating the incident, though many flyers are already responding to this latest news by swearing off all Boeing flights. “If it’s Boeing, I ain’t going!” one person wrote on X (formally Twitter). However, many also pointed out that the loss of an engine cowling was likely a maintenance issue rather than Boeing being at fault; “I was an Aircraft Mechanic for 21 yrs in the USAF and the engine cowlings falling off are poor maintenance practices and have nothing to do with Boeing or the 737 build.”

Sources: Twitch leak severely underestimates earnings for biggest streamers – Dexerto
Sources: Twitch leak severely underestimates earnings for biggest streamers Twitch/Unsplash: Sharon McCutcheonDexerto has spoken to a source directly involved with some of the biggest creators on Twitch, and been advised the October 6 leak that detailed out the earnings of some of the biggest names on the platform are grossly undervalued as it doesn’t account for exclusivity deals. The Twitch leak quickly spread throughout the community, and streamers’ earnings was the main topic of discussion when it dropped. Twitch has since confirmed that the breach — a 135GB file also including users’ encrypted passwords and reference to a Steam competitor in the works — took place, and they are working on it. With the likes of xQc, Asmongold and NICKMERCS earning millions of dollars each since the earliest leaked date of September 2019, there are some eye-watering figures in the list. A source close to the issue has confirmed that the numbers included in the data actually omit a significant portion of some streamers’ earnings from Twitch. https://twitter.com/KnowS0mething/status/1445651544200781830?s=20 Speaking anonymously to Dexerto, the source explains that the figures provided do not include exclusivity commitments. “They may include subs and donations, but they totally don’t include the big-dollar contracts Twitch has handed out,” our source said of the leaked figures. “Some of those exclusivity contracts have advance clauses, so they withhold some of their monthly, organic revenue (via subs and donations) to cover for the big advance at time of exclusivity signing.” In essence, they add, it undervalues both parties, because the leaked figures “don’t show the exclusivity sum, and withholds organic revenue because of the advance.” For example, if a streamer signs a $10m, two-year deal with a $4m advance, they will lose some of their organic earnings — such as ad revenue — each month to pay back the advance. Which Twitch-exclusive streamers could be included? While exact figures for Twitch exclusivity contracts aren’t known, and will vary by the streamer, we can assume that Twitch-exclusive streamers make even more than the leak suggests. This includes (but is not limited to) the likes of: These streamers are those that we know signed exclusive contracts with Twitch within the past couple of years. Additionally, DrLupo and TimTheTatman both had exclusive contracts, before moving to YouTube. While some streamers told Dexerto that the figures were accurate, there are potentially millions of dollars kept hidden in this leak for the biggest creators.

South African embassy under fire after teacher’s assault in Shanghai goes viral – Dexerto
South African embassy under fire after teacher’s assault in Shanghai goes viral YT: 타임:존 with JustNoluA South African kindergarten teacher, Nolusindiso Hleko, has shared a harrowing account of her alleged assault by her employer in Shanghai, China, in a YouTube video that has since gone viral. The incident has since sparked outrage and raised questions about the response of the South African embassy in China. In a video uploaded to YouTube titled “My Worst Year Abroad,” Hleko stated, “On Wednesday, August 23, during a disagreement, the HR manager at my job, a guy, punched me in the face.” She further detailed her traumatic experience, saying, “I screamed and I was trying to get my cellphone so I could take pictures and videos of what was happening. Instead, he grabbed my phone and said he didn’t have my phone anymore… I was running in the passage of this kindergarten trying to get help.” Hleko recounted how one woman who could speak English was able to call the police, “When we arrived at the kindergarten, they gathered everything that belonged to me on the table, telling me the reason they were preventing me leaving is because they wanted me to calm down so they can call the police to resolve the issue.” Hleko later provided another update revealing her disappointment with the South African embassy. She stated, “To those who have asked me to contact my embassy, I did. They were the first number I called when this happened but sadly they don’t even have an emergency number, so I wasn’t able to get hold of them that day and when I finally did, they told me they would call me back and never did.” The now-viral video has led to widespread concern and criticism of the South African embassy’s response. South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) is now set to question officials at the South African embassy in China, according to a report from TimesLive. A DRICO spokesperson advised South Africans abroad, saying, “If South Africans in another country suffer abuse or are subjected to harm, they should report the matter to the police in that country and inform the embassy.” In Hleko’s case, however, she did both and was still left feeling “powerless” in the situation. As of the latest reports, Hleko is safe in Germany while her viewers are calling for her to “name and shame” the school in question.

Source claims Addison Rae’s parents have been separated for a year – Dexerto
Source claims Addison Rae’s parents have been separated for a year Instagram: theraefamily, addisonraeeA source close to the family of TikTok star Addison Rae claims that her parents, Sheri Easterling and Monty Lopez, have been separated for some time. The internet has been laser-focused on the ongoing drama happening inside the family of one of TikTok’s biggest stars — Addison Rae. Rae, 21, is one of the platform’s most-followed content creators… and one of its most successful, scoring a multi-film deal with Netflix last year after the release of her debut film ‘He’s All That.’ However, things on the inside are looking decidedly less starstruck. In late June, both Rae and her mother unfollowed her father, Monty Lopez, on Instagram. Shortly thereafter, a slew of videos and photos surfaced that showed Lopez purportedly cheating on Sheri Easterling, with the most damning coming from 25-year-old Renne Ash. Ash notably posted several photos showing herself and Lopez kissing, claiming she was “thoroughly embarrassed” by his affair and saying she was under the impression that he and Easterling were “apart and in the process of getting a divorce.” It looks like this claim may be true, as a source close to Addison’s family states that Easterling and Lopez have been separated for a year. “They’ve been separated for a year,” the source told PEOPLE. “Sheri and the boys have been living in Louisiana.” This wouldn’t be the first time the couple has split up; Easterling and Lopez actually divorced when Rae was a child, and remarried in 2017. While Easterling has claimed that her “biggest concern is–and always will be–my children and their fragile hearts and minds,” Lopez seems to be wholly unbothered by the drama, uploading an Instagram video where he wrote: “TFW the internet wants to get you but you control the internet.” This latest news follows recent claims from YouTuber Tana Mongeau who shared her own experiences with Lopez, saying the current drama is “just the tip of the iceberg.”

Soulja Boy tries to ‘get physical’ with Jake Paul ahead of possible boxing match – Dexerto
Soulja Boy tries to ‘get physical’ with Jake Paul ahead of possible boxing match Reuters / Jake Paul, InstagramThe beef between American rapper Soulja Boy and controversial YouTuber Jake Paul continues to escalate, after Soulja Boy allegedly tried to fight Paul ahead of their potential boxing match. Paul shared the news to his Instagram story late on February 27, where he claimed that Soulja Boy had facetimed him with an invite to “pull up” – with the implication that things could get violent. Paul went on to state that he accepted the rapper’s invite and pulled up two hours later, after which Soulja Boy allegedly tried to “get physical” with him. 500The YouTuber also uploaded a screenshot from a video of their altercation, and promised his fans that he would publish a full-length video on the subject the very next day. According to Paul, his fight with Soulja Boy is definitely going down, as he claimed that he is currently in training to box the rapper. 500While Soulja has yet to speak on the matter via social media, their altercation comes as no surprise, as the rapper told Paul during a previous facetime that the two would fight “on sight.” Both parties have since placed a whopping $20 million on their bout – although Paul speculated that Soulja Boy doesn’t have the cash in question. Their beef began after Paul called out the rapper on Twitter, to which Soulja responded that he would “knock [Paul] out.” Since then, the two have gone back and forth across social media, with Paul’s Instagram story documenting their latest encounter. UPDATE: Jake Paul has since uploaded his encounter with Soulja Boy in its entirety, which resulted in the two shaking hands on their boxing match. While no date has yet been set, it appears that the two are gearing up for a legitimate fight.

Soulja Boy banned again on Twitch hours after serving 5-minute suspension – Dexerto
Soulja Boy banned again on Twitch hours after serving 5-minute suspension Twitch: SouljaboyRapper and Twitch streamer Soulja Boy was banned on Twitch for the second time in a day shortly after serving out a five-minute ban, one of the shortest in the platform’s history. The rapper has caused a stir on Twitch ever since he started streaming on the platform in 2018. He’s done everything from ruining Among Us lobbies to calling DrLupo and TimTheTatman “sellouts” after switching to YouTube. He even claimed to be the sole reason why the platform has become so popular. But despite that, his popularity as a streamer is growing, especially after he surprised Twitch fans with a Squid Game-inspired song. However, his momentum came to a momentary halt on December 9 after being banned twice on the same day. Soulja Boy banned on Twitch again No more than four hours after his initial ban was lifted, Soula Bay was banned again for the second time on the same day. The reason hasn’t been revealed yet. However, some fans used it as an opportunity to poke fun at him. They pointed out that he’s the only rapper to get banned, unbanned, and banned again on Twitch all within a day. ❌ Twitch Partner “”souljaboy”” (@souljaboy) has been banned! ❌https://t.co/2WkhKIlRxc#twitch #ban #secondban #partner #twitchpartner 😯 — StreamerBans (@StreamerBans) December 10, 2021 Soulja Boy banned on Twitch — for five minutes Before the second ban happened, Soulja Boy was banned for the first time in his streaming career. Many fans wondered what had happened. According to Twitter user KoolKoori, Soulja was streaming sound samples while making his own music when the incident happened. Some fans even speculated that he might be in the process of creating his own streaming platform and was banned as a result of that. ❌ Twitch Partner “”souljaboy”” (@souljaboy) has been banned! ❌https://t.co/2WkhKIlRxc#twitch #ban #firstban #partner #twitchpartner 🏷 — StreamerBans (@StreamerBans) December 9, 2021 But in a bizarre twist of events, he was unbanned almost exactly five minutes later – which raised more questions than answers. ✅ Twitch Partner “”souljaboy”” (@souljaboy) has been unbanned after 5 minutes and 10 seconds! ✅https://t.co/2WkhKIlRxc#twitch #unban #partner #twitchpartner 🚾 — StreamerBans (@StreamerBans) December 9, 2021 It’s not the first time a popular streamer on Twitch was banned and unbanned shortly after. Back in 2019, Timothy ‘TimTheTatman’ Betar faced a similar situation. However, his ban was just over 10 minutes long. Soulja Boy might be the first streamer who was banned again hours after serving a five-minute sentence, though.

Soulja Boy threatens to sue Twitch for banning him with “no explanation” – Dexerto
Soulja Boy threatens to sue Twitch for banning him with “no explanation” Twitch/SouljaboyTwitch streamer and famous musician DeAndre Cortez Way, better known as Soulja Boy, is threatening to sue the Amazon-owned platform after being banned twice in one day. Rapper Soulja Boy has become one of the most entertaining streamers on Twitch, either playing games or talking with his chat. His hyper personality has captivated audiences, but sadly, he’s been absent from streaming for five days now. On December 10, the artist was banned from Twitch and then unbanned a mere five minutes later. However, four hours after that, he was suspended yet again and this time, his ban is still in place. Now, he’s threatening to sue Twitch and claims they haven’t provided a reason why he was banned to begin with. https://twitter.com/souljaboy/status/1471134112274518017 Soulja Boy vs Twitch On December 15, the streamer took to Twitter to voice his frustration with Twitch, accusing the site of “racism” in the process. “I can’t believe Twitch can just ban you without any proof or explanation. This doesn’t feel right. I gotta sue these people,” he said in one tweet. “If y’all don’t give me my account back I’m taking y’all to court.” https://twitter.com/souljaboy/status/1471134853844246533 The posts continued, with the artist asking who the CEO of Twitch was before reaffirming his intent to potentially sue the platform. “I need the best lawyer money can buy. DM me, I got millions. I wanna sue Twitch. I feel like they [are] racist. They ban me without [any] explanation I will not stand for this,” he remarked. https://twitter.com/souljaboy/status/1471135889250082816 Soulja Boy isn’t the only streamer taking Twitch to court over a ban. Back in August, Dr Disrespect said he plans on suing the site after learning why he was mysteriously permanently banned in the summer of 2020. Whether or not the rapper goes through with his plans to sue are unclear, nor is there any indication on how long Twitch has suspended him for.

Soulja Boy ruins Among Us game by making ultimate rookie mistake – Dexerto
Soulja Boy ruins Among Us game by making ultimate rookie mistake Innersloth / Instagram: souljaboyUS rapper Soulja Boy has made moves into the livestreaming world recently, with a growing Twitch channel — but he made the ultimate rookie mistake while playing Among Us, completely ruining the game. Among Us seems to have taken the gaming world by storm in recent months, and you’ll often find streamers from all different gaming backgrounds coming together to play the game, where the ‘imposter’ has to sneak around and kill crewmates without being found out. Obviously, the key to the game is that the imposter wants to take out all of their friends without being found out, requiring a certain level of stealth and a good poker face. Apparently, though, not everyone received the message. While streaming his gameplay, Soulja Boy — real name DeAndre Cortez Way — was visibly loving life as the imposter, taking down the crew one-by-one and looking like a kid at Christmas. After a give-away giggle, Soulja Boy then turned to his viewers and asked who he should kill next… Except, he made one massive error. From the laughter from his friends, you could tell immediately what went wrong, as one of them notifies him that he hadn’t muted his microphone, essentially giving away that he was the imposter to everyone else. The rapper couldn’t contain his laughter after realizing his mistake, and it didn’t take long for an emergency meeting to be called to foil the imposter. In an attempt to fight his corner, Soulja Boy questioned why they have to be in Discord and requested a mode that mutes everyone when the game is live, but it wasn’t the strongest defense, and he was, obviously, ejected as the imposter. In gaming, everyone makes mistakes, and sometimes you’ll simply make a bad play — but Soulja Boy might have taken “bad play” to a whole new level with this.

Soulja Boy returns to the gaming biz with another knock-off console – Dexerto
Soulja Boy returns to the gaming biz with another knock-off console Hot97svg.com / SouljaWatch.comAmerican rapper Deandre Cortez ‘Soulja Boy’ Way has made a not-so-subtle return to the gaming industry – this time, releasing yet another console that looks to be a knock-off of the handheld PS Vita. Despite the sudden disappearance of the rapper’s previous consoles in late December (due to possible legal action from Nintendo), Soulja Boy is once again pumping out the products, with his latest release suspiciously resemblant of Sony’s PS Vita. However, the device’s specs aren’t exactly the same as its progenitor; in fact, the new ‘SouljaGame Handheld’ boasts a screen resolution of merely 480×272 (as investigated by DualShockers) – the same as the PlayStation Portable handheld console released in 2005. https://souljawatch.com/collections/games/products/souljagame-handheld-1The device is currently marked down at half price as of January 13, sitting at $99.00 (as opposed to a $200.00 price point). Additionally, Soulja Boy’s website advertises a larger console called the ‘Soulja Game,’ which comes with a set of controllers similar to those of the PlayStation 3. While this product cannot be accessed through the site’s thumbnail, it could be on its way very soon – provided that Soulja Boy doesn’t get hit with another lawsuit from Sony in the interim. https://souljawatch.com/The rapper was apparently met with legal action due to his earlier product line in December 2018, which included a series of knock-off, rom-hacked Nintendo consoles that could be purchased for half of his asking price on websites like Amazon and Aliexpress. While Soulja Boy’s current gaming fare is quite limited, he continues to offer such devices as the ‘SouljaPad’ and the ‘SouljaPod’ earphones, among other products.

Soulja Boy reveals the real reason why Reggie Fils-Aime retired from Nintendo – Dexerto
Soulja Boy reveals the real reason why Reggie Fils-Aime retired from Nintendo The Breakfast Club, YouTube / GoNintendoAmerican rapper Soulja Boy feels that he knows the real reason behind former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime’s retirement – and it might have to do with his phony gaming consoles. Soulja Boy retweeted Nintendo’s video discussing Fils-Aime’s retirement on February 22, with a caption that hinted at his potential involvement in the change. “I made him retire,” Soulja said of the development, including the 🤷♂️ emoji in his post for good measure. I made him retire :skin-tone-5:♂️ https://t.co/ibQiCfIHjZ — Soulja Boy “Draco” (@souljaboy) February 22, 2019 Soulja’s tweet was likely made in reference to his controversial console line, which was removed from his online store due to supposed legal action from Nintendo in late December of 2018. However, that didn’t stop his efforts; the rapper later introduced yet another series of consoles that imitated Sony’s products, which were also removed after a short period of time – as was his entire website. https://www.dexerto.com/entertainment/soulja-boy-returns-to-the-gaming-biz-with-another-knock-off-console-282630Soulja went on to create a new website with an equally new console, which was smaller (and significantly cheaper) than his previous systems. Read More: Elon Musk finally hosts PewDiePie’s ‘Meme Review’ in last-ditch effort to fend off T-Series – Soulja’s console initiative garnered ample controversy, due to his systems being ROM-hacked, knockoff consoles available for purchase through sites like AliExpress and Amazon for a much lower price point. Fils-Aime’s retirement came as a surprise to many fans of the company – especially considering the fact that Nintendo of America’s next president is literally named ‘Doug Bowser.’ Soulja has since set his sights on potentially boxing controversial YouTuber Jake Paul in a $20 million dollar match – although no concrete details have yet been released for their bout.

Soulja Boy releases new song inspired by Netflix’s Squid Game show – Dexerto
Soulja Boy releases new song inspired by Netflix’s Squid Game show YouTube: Soulja boyRapper and Twitch streamer ‘Soulja Boy’ has hopped on the Squid Game hype train by rapping over the opening score for the Netflix show. The latest Netflix viral show Squid Game is based on childhood games that are used as challenges to give struggling participants a chance to win millions. The pilot episode offers an intense set-up for the rest of the series with a deadly game of red light/green light. The show has inspired quite a few influencers and video games with MrBeast wanting to recreate the games for a video, and TikTok introducing an inspired loadout challenge on Warzone. Korean composer Jung Jae-il’s melodic, string-filled score doesn’t offer much in terms of bass and percussion, but that doesn’t hold the ‘Crank dat’ rapper back from making use of the hard-hitting pulse of the song. New Soulja Boy Squid Game song The rapper quickly made his Squid Game inspirations known, not only with the title of the single but the first line in the song referencing the first game in the series: “Red light, green light / You know that I came with my team, right?” Lines like “Get to poppin’ s**t like a squid game,” and “red light, green light/something don’t seem right” showcase his ability to match the mood of the show’s brutal challenges. Mixed reactions Reactions on social media are mixed, as some fans are impressed with the rapper’s release, while others are calling it “trash” and “offbeat.” Twitter user ‘ElloTanjiro’ wasn’t too impressed with the release, stating: “Bro give it up its trashhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh” Other users of the social media platform disagree with Ello, showing love for the creator’s single: “DRACO! Another one!” https://twitter.com/ChillsBarkley/status/1448659295659200515?s=20 Love it or hate it, Soulja Boy is the first mainstream rapper to cross over with the viral show. We’ll have to wait to see if anyone else follows in his footsteps.

Soulja Boy hilariously loses his mind when he wins his first streamed Fortnite game – Dexerto
Soulja Boy hilariously loses his mind when he wins his first streamed Fortnite game American rapper DeAndre Way, better known by his stage name Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em, has started to stream Fortnite on Twitch, and his reaction to winning his first live streamed game of Fortnite is priceless. The artist was playing duos matches alongside streamer ‘SwaggerLeeTV’, when the pair found themselves in the final circle, with just two enemies remaining. With very little health yet, Soulja Boy was forced to hang back and try and pick off his opponents from a distance, while SwaggerLee pushed in to try and find the kills. The Twitch streamer managed to kill one at close range, and while SwaggerLeeTV and his opponent got into a build battle, Soulja Boy was able to eliminate him with the Scar. The American immediately bounced off his chair, screaming “Let’s go,” in delight as he celebrated his win. Soulja Boy started asking his stream what was wrong with the players they just faced off against, before yelling: “I told you all! I’m not playing! I headshotted him from like a mile away, gang shit! “Turn the fuck up, that’s how we do it! Wins early in the morning, dubs early in the morning, and I got the last kill,” concluded the rapper. “That was fun,” laughed Soulja Boy, before hopping back into the Battle Bus. The rapper began streaming back in September, and has already amassed a massive 32,000 followers in less that two months. Soulja Boy isn’t the first rapper to take an interest in Fortnite and Twitch. Earlier in the year, Drake played the battle royale game on stream with Ninja, and has since went on to become a co-owner of 100 Thieves.

Soulja Boy pulls consoles from store after possible Nintendo lawsuit – Dexerto
Soulja Boy pulls consoles from store after possible Nintendo lawsuit American rapper DeAndre ‘Soulja Boy’ Way created his own line of consoles in early December – but it seems his stint in the gaming industry is landing him in hot water, as he has now removed the products from his online store following an apparent lawsuit from Nintendo. The ‘Crank Dat’ rapper received a slew of backlash following the release of his ‘new’ consoles, which many found to be a series of knock-off, rom-hacked systems available for purchase on websites like Amazon and Aliexpress. After being confronted with the possibility of legal action from users across the web, due to licensing restrictions for the games available on his system (including the likes of Smash Bros Ultimate), Soulja Boy appeared to be wholly confident that he was in the right, Tweeting out, “Nintendo ain’t gon’ do SHIT.” https://www.thelizardrock.com/soulja-boy-souljagame-console-handheld/ However, it appears that Nintendo did, indeed, do some shit, as the rapper has since removed all consoles from his store, Souljawatch.com. Soulja Boy likewise posted a fairly incriminating statement via Twitter on December 29, writing, “I had to boss up, I didn’t have a choice” – which could hint that he was faced with legal action from the company. I had to boss up, I didn’t have a choice.:skin-tone-5:♂️ — Soulja Boy (Drako) (@souljaboy) December 29, 2018 While Soulja Boy is no longer selling consoles, he continues to offer such products as the “Soulja Phone” and his “Souljapods” wireless headphones, among other devices. The rapper has likewise expressed an interest in forming a competitive gaming team, including such titles as Overwatch and Fortnite. No official statement has yet been released regarding any legal action against Soulja Boy.

Soulja Boy debuts new website – and a significantly cheaper console Revolt TV / Soulja ElectronicsAmerican rapper DeAndre ‘Soulja Boy’ Cortez Way is back in the gaming business with with a smaller, cheaper console – and an entirely new website. Soulja Boy’s latest console, called the ‘Mini SouljaGame,’ is powered by 3 AAA batteries, and features an advertised number of 688 titles. The system is listed at a price of $27.99 – a significant decrease from his previous consoles, which sold for upwards of $200. The handheld console follows the release of his previous ‘Soulja Game’ system, which looked suspiciously similar to the PS Vita (although it ran on PSP specs). https://souljaelectronics.com/products/mini-souljagameSoulja Boy’s website, souljawatch.com, was taken offline shortly after the Soulja Game’s release, prompting speculation that the rapper had been met with legal action from Sony. Since then, Soulja Boy has created a new website on which to sell his minute gaming system, under the name ‘Soulja Electronics.’ The rapper’s new site features an array of such products as the ‘Soulja Bot,’ ‘Soulja PS4 Keyboard,’ and even his classic ‘Soulja Pods’ wireless headphones. Soulja Boy’s initial console line was removed from his store, due to a possible lawsuit from Nintendo. Despite two major setbacks, it doesn’t look like the ‘Crank Dat’ creator is backing down from his gaming dreams any time soon. Soulja Boy finally unbanned on Twitch after over a year – Dexerto
Soulja Boy finally unbanned on Twitch after over a year Twitch/Soulja BoyFamous rapper Soulja Boy has been unbanned on Twitch after a whopping one year, four months and one day. It’s a very happy 4/20 for Soulja Boy. In an unexpected turn of events, the rapper was suddenly unbanned on Twitch after serving quite a long suspension on the platform. Soulja was first suspended back on December 9, 2021 before being quickly unbanned and banned just five minutes later. It’s still not clear why he was banned in the first place or why the decision so swiftly changed, but Twitch’s actions made the rapper originally want to take legal action. “I can’t believe Twitch can just ban you without any proof or explanation. This doesn’t feel right. I gotta sue these people,” he said at that time before deciding to back off. Twitch unbans Soulja Boy after over one year Although the reason for the ban still isn’t known, Soulja Boy did apologize to Twitch after claiming he spoke with them. “I would like to send an apology to the entire staff and community. It’s their decision. Let’s just see what happens. Thanks for your support,” he wrote back at the end of 2021. Whatever the case, it seems like he did end up waiting to see what would happen… and at long last, Twitch has made the decision to allow him to once again stream on the platform. Interestingly, back on April 18, Soulja Boy reacted to a Dexerto report about Kai Cenat’s suspension, commenting that it had been over one year. It’s not clear if he contacted Twitch again after that. He also isn’t the first back name to be allowed back on the site after over a year. Notably, infamous hot tub streamer Indiefoxx recently returned to Twitch after multiple suspensions and a wardrobe malfunction. Soulja Boy hasn’t commented on his unban just yet, but it certainly comes at a key moment in the streaming wars as Kick continues to gain momentum as an alternative to Twitch.

Soulja Boy is convinced he’s the reason Twitch is so popular: “That was all me” – Dexerto
Soulja Boy is convinced he’s the reason Twitch is so popular: “That was all me” Twitch/Soulja BoyDeAndre ‘Soulja Boy’ Way is convinced he’s the reason Twitch is so popular, with the superstar rapper claiming he “made it cool” to play games for an audience online way back in 2007, when Justin.tv was still in its early years. There’s no denying Twitch is an internet powerhouse these days. Streaming stars like Pokimane, Shroud, and Ninja have risen to become popular modern-day celebrities in their own right off the back of the broadcasting platform, while others like Valkyrae and TimTheTatman have used their stardom on the Amazon-owned website to leverage multi-million dollar deals. Things get a little more blurry, apparently, when it comes to who built the foundations of the site. Way back yonder, in 2007, Twitch was called Justin.tv. That site’s founders likely have a big claim, as do Amazon and Curse. Then there are the streamers themselves, who draw in viewers. One man believes he knows the reason though. According to Soulja Boy, he’s one of the big reasons Twitch is the streaming juggernaut it is today. Soulja Boy began regularly streaming on Twitch in mid-2020, and hit his most dedicated months of broadcasting at the end of last year. He had been involved in the platform before that, but only in short spurts every few months. Despite that, the Chicago-born rapper — best known for hit single “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” in 2007, is convinced he had a heavy hand in Twitch’s modern-day popularity. “I was the first rapper on Twitch, back when it used to be called Justin.tv. I’m the one that made it cool for you to be playing Xbox [and] games on Twitch. Subscribers, going live. I did that. That was all me bro,” the rapper claims. “You know what I’m saying? Everything… I done did it!” Way also went on to state he was the first pioneer in the esports scene, founding his gaming team SODMG Gamers “way before esports was a thing”. The rapper suggests “esports came out in 2010. Google it, YouTube it, Wikipedia it, whatever you gotta do (which we did, Google says 1972). I had SODMG since 2004.” Whether or not Soulja Boy was the sole originator of Twitch’s popularity, there can be no denying the streaming website has turned into a modern-day juggernaut. At any one time, Twitch boasts between 70,000 and 100,000 live channels, raking in more than two million concurrent viewers. More than eight million unique streamers went live last month, and according to TwitchTracker fans consumed more than 1066 billion minutes of Twitch content this year alone. And look, we’re not denying that Soulja Boy is a popular figure. Dexerto would point out, however, that the rapper’s total Twitch views (5.4m) are dwarfed, just a little, by other major stars like xQc (416m), now-banned Dr Disrespect (181m), or Pokimane (192m) over the same length of time. That doesn’t stop Soulja Boy from sticking up for Twitch though; just last week, he blasted TimTheTatman, accusing him of “selling out” by joining YouTube.

Soulja Boy to box Jake Paul on KSI vs Logan Paul 2 undercard – Dexerto
Soulja Boy to box Jake Paul on KSI vs Logan Paul 2 undercard Soulja Boy, Jake Paul – InstagramYouTube stars KSI and Logan Paul are set to throw down in a highly-anticipated boxing rematch on November 9 – but despite Eddie Hearn’s claims of an all-pro undercard, it looks like two more celebs will be throwing down at the event. According to the manager of American rapper Soulja Boy, both he and YouTuber Jake Paul will touch gloves at KSI vs Logan Paul 2 in the Los Angeles Staples Center, following the rapper’s early release from prison after violating terms of his probation. “Soulja Boy has been FREE since July 14th of this year!” Miami Mike wrote. “He is ok and ALIVE and well. What’s the beef between Jake Paul & Soulja Boy? Although Eddie Hearn claimed that he wanted to undercard to be “pros only,” this bout between Soulja Boy and Jake Paul doesn’t come as too great of a surprise, considering the two have a beef spanning back to February of this year. In fact, it was Jake Paul who called out Soulja Boy first, taunting the rapper in a simple Tweet that read, “I wanna box Soulja Boy.” As fate would have it, the rapper seemed up for the challenge, replying with, “Boy, I’ll knock you out” – but that wasn’t the end of their feud, by far. The two went on to have a heated conversation over Instagram Live shortly thereafter, with Paul putting a whopping $20 million on their proposed fight. Things almost “got physical” between the celebs after Paul visited Soulja’s mansion a few weeks later, which ultimately ended with the two shaking hands on a potential boxing match – a proposal that has finally come to fruition after months of radio silence. While it seemed that MMA pro Dillon Danis was set to face off against Paul for the rematch, it looks like Soulja Boy is keeping his end of the bargain – but there’s no telling if he’ll actually “tell ’em” in the ring.

Soulja Boy calls Jake Paul a bitch and says the boxing fight is “happening” – Dexerto
Soulja Boy calls Jake Paul a bitch and says the boxing fight is “happening” Jake Paul/YouTube screenshotControversial yet popular YouTuber Jake Paul and hit rapper Soulja Boy have been beefing on social media since the start of the new year and now it looks like their series of online threats about getting into a boxing ring may finally be headed down a serious path. The pair have traded verbal blows back and forth on Twitter, Instagram and YouTube before Paul made it known on February 6 that he is “serious” about fighting Soulja Boy – but that he doesn’t believe the rapper has the cash to make it happen because he hasn’t contacted Paul’s manager to make it happen. Now, the ‘Crank That’ rapper has revealed that he too is pretty serious about making the fight happen and will stake a whole lot to make it happen sometime soon. Speaking to TMZ Sports, the rapper said: “Jake Paul can’t beat me in no fight, you know that. Come on man, you know that. It’s really going to happen though. Yeah, it’s for real.” “I know I’m gonna handle him – he ain’t got no hands. He just thinks he’s gonna win because he got a weight advantage.” However, when quizzed about seeing Paul in action, Soulja said: “I ain’t seen him fight.” The rapper delivered one final verbal jab when told that the controversial YouTuber star had offered to put $20 million to make the fight happen. “I’ll put the whole record label up in advance – let’s go. Jake Paul, you a bitch,” he stated, before being whisked away in a car. It remains to be seen if the beefing pair will finally strap on a pair of gloves each and step into a ring but it looks like things may just be hotting up.

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas announce the birth of their second child – Dexerto
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas announce the birth of their second child Twitter: joejonasGame of Thrones star Sophie Turner has given birth a baby girl. This is the second child for Turner and her husband Joe Jonas, who welcomed their first daughter into the world almost exactly two years ago. A new celebrity baby has been brought into the world, with the birth of Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’ second daughter being confirmed to People Magazine on July 14. Their representative told the outlet that the two are, “happy to announce the arrival of their baby girl.” While the exact date and time of their second child’s birth has not been revealed, it is believed that she was born in July. Much of the Game of Thrones star’s pregnancy was a private affair. It was only when Turner attended the Met Gala in May, cradling her baby bump that the world found out her and her husband were expecting their second child. Shortly after the event, the Game of Thrones star spoke with Elle UK in May 2022 about the pregnancy. “It’s what life is about for me—raising the next generation,” began Turner. “The greatest thing in life is seeing my daughter go from strength to strength. We’re so excited to be expanding the family. It’s the best blessing ever.” While Sophie Turner has been moved away from the Game of Thrones universe and is acting less frequently than in previous years, she does feel her new role as a mother has elevated her acting skills and abilities. When chatting on the UnWrapped podcast, the actor was discussing how this new chapter in her life has expanded her emotional range and understanding. “The empathy is heightened; the feelings about family are just like overflowing. It’s made me a better actor for becoming, you know, becoming a mother.” She goes on to add that, “the concept of family has made me an entirely much more emotional person. You know how you see your parents, as they get older, become way more sensitive? Like, I’ve never seen my dad cry, and now I see him cry all the time. I feel like that.” The Jonas brothers add another daughter to the family Joe Jonas is best known for being one third of the Jonas Brothers. Himself and real life brothers Nick and Kevin were big Disney Channel stars during the 2010s, with Joe and Nick since going on to have successful solo careers. Soulja Boy apologizes to Twitch after threatening to sue over ban – Dexerto
Soulja Boy apologizes to Twitch after threatening to sue over ban YouTube: Tha God’s Honest Truth / Twitch‘Crank That’ rapper Soulja Boy has officially issued an apology to live streaming platform Twitch after previously threatening to sue the website for getting banned. However, his broadcasting ground to a sudden halt on December 10 after he was banned. Luckily, his suspension only lasted for five minutes, although he was banned again four hours later — a ban that’s still in place today. While it’s unclear why Soulja Boy was given the ban hammer, it’s plain to see that he was less than pleased by this turn of events. Five days later, he took aim at Twitch, claiming he was going to sue the website and even accusing the platform of racism. “I can’t believe Twitch can just ban you without any proof or explanation,” he wrote. “This doesn’t feel right. I gotta sue these people.” https://twitter.com/souljaboy/status/1471135889250082816?s=20 Soulja Boy apologizes to Twitch after unexplained ban Just two days later, though, it looks like Soulja Boy is walking back his previous claims. Sophie Turner fans rush to her defense over “smear campaign” rumors amid Joe Jonas divorce – Dexerto
Sophie Turner fans rush to her defense over “smear campaign” rumors amid Joe Jonas divorce Instagram: sophietWith fans still in shock over the news of Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’ impending divorce, the latest rumors are now suggesting Jonas is running a “smear campaign” against his estranged wife. Earlier this week the internet was devastated to learn that Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas were getting a divorce. Papers obtained by PEOPLE cited “different lifestyles” as the reason for the couple’s separation, stating “the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.” A source told TMZ “She likes to party, he likes to stay at home. They have very different lifestyles.” The source also claimed the couple had been having issues for the past six months and that Jonas had been looking after their two young children “pretty much all of the time”. However, Turner’s fans are not impressed and have theorized Jonas might be running a “smear campaign” against his former wife. The main reason fans believe Jonas is looking to turn public opinion against Turner comes down to what news has been heard of the couple’s relationship troubles. “Everything that has come out regarding the divorce is so one-sided,” one person on Twitter claimed, suggesting “his camp” was attempting to push a certain narrative. Others are referring to a resurfaced clip of Turner from an interview she did in 2020 as evidence that this is the case. In the clip Turner calls herself an “introvert” and a “homebody”, saying “If I could stay at home all day I would… I leave my house like once a day anyway to walk my dogs and then that’s it.” Fans claim this clip contradicts the allegations made painting Turner as a “party girl”, with one person writing “This smells like a misogynistic smear campaign.” Another said, “I don’t even like Sophie but it’s pretty obvious he is trying to paint her in a negative light on purpose. And we know Joe is no angel.” As of yet, Turner nor Jonas have released a statement regarding their separation. We’ll be sure to update you as the story progresses. In the meantime, check out all the latest entertainment news on our page here.

Son goes viral for sharing his “traumatic” home life with OCD mom – Dexerto
Son goes viral for sharing his “traumatic” home life with OCD mom TikTok: zavhbruhA son has gone viral for sharing how “traumatic” his home life is with a mom who has extreme OCD. TikToker, Zav, has gone viral for sharing what it’s like living at home with a mom who has severe OCD. Though his TikToks about the “traumatic” environment focus on his mom’s OCD, Zav also gives insight into the various disorders his mom has such as bipolar, ADHD, and more. Viewers have since reacted with support for Zav, explaining how loved ones of their own suffer from the same thing. Mom doesn’t allow son to go upstairs in their home due to her OCD Zav found himself having to move back to his family home, however, he described living with his mom who has obsessive-compulsive disorder as a traumatic experience, as she doesn’t allow him to use most of the house. Opening up to his viewers, Zav showed all the areas in the house that he wasn’t allowed to touch. For starters, he has to replace his socks with new ones before entering the house through the garage door. Zav then takes his viewers around the home where he explains which areas were “too clean” for him to touch such as kitchen chairs, couches, and an entire room. He’s also not allowed to go upstairs and isn’t supposed to use his mom’s bathroom because he’s “too dirty” despite being a well-kept individual. Zav’s mom even eats by herself facing the wall because she’s too germaphobic to eat around others like Zav, his dad, and his sister. Those who have seen Zav’s viral story have related to him in his comments, saying, “My oldest son has contamination OCD, and one of the hardest things for my husband and I is him avoiding us because he thinks we are ‘dirty.’” And, “I have contamination OCD. I needed to see this. Because half I do seemed logical and the other half was probably where I was heading.” Others shared their support by apologizing on Zav’s mom’s behalf, saying, “Imagine your own mom making you feel ‘too dirty’ for her, the emotional impact. I am so sorry bro…” Though Zav doesn’t find happiness in his home, he’s still living there. Fortunately, he’s now created a safe space for others to relate to him, as he continues to share more about his life with an OCD mom.

SonicFox claps back at PewDiePie’s reaction to his Game Awards speech – Dexerto
SonicFox claps back at PewDiePie’s reaction to his Game Awards speech PewDiePie, YouTube / Queerty.comLegendary fighting game pro Dominique ‘SonicFox’ McLean made waves across social media due to his acceptance speech at the 2018 Game Awards. Since then, YouTube king Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg has weighed in on the action – but SonicFox isn’t impressed with his response. PewDiePie addressed the 2018 Game Awards during an episode of ‘Pew News’ on December 11, where he brought up SonicFox’s acceptance speech for winning ‘Best Esports Player.’ SonicFox took to the stage in full fursuit to accept his trophy, addressing his status as a black, gay, furry man in light of his victory. Although PewDiePie claimed that Dominique’s nearly three-minute-long speech “went on for way too long,” he likewise admitted that he liked the player’s “unapologetic” nature – despite claiming that he isn’t “the brightest.” “I kind of like how he’s so unapologetic to who he is,” Pewds commented. “…I see this guy and how he presents himself. He’s 20 years old… he’s clearly not the brightest.” SonicFox took note of Pewd’s comments and clapped back at the YouTuber in a series of savage Tweets, referencing his widely-criticized use of a racial slur during a stream in 2017. “I don’t really care if PewDiePie mentioned me in his video,” the player wrote. “He, like many others, keep thinking my personality is being gay and black, and if that’s the case, you’ve missed the point already.” There’s also some sense of irony being called not the brightest from him when he’s had his little heated gaming moment :skull::skull: — FOX | SonicFox (@SonicFox5000) December 11, 2018 “There’s also some sense of irony being called not the brightest from him when he’s had his little heated gaming moment,” he continued. PewDiePie is currently in the midst of yet another controversy, after being linked to an Anti-Semitic channel that he promoted during a ‘Pew News’ video on December 9. PewDiePie has since denied any knowledge of the channel’s problematic content, and has deleted any mention of the user from his video in response to criticism.

Sommer Ray, Tayler Holder & Jason Derulo slammed for “disrespectful” TikTok – Dexerto
Sommer Ray, Tayler Holder & Jason Derulo slammed for “disrespectful” TikTok Instagram: jasonderulo/sommerray[jwplayer MCWtJUdj]Multiple TikTok users have called out Sommer Ray, Tayler Holder and even pop sensation Jason Derulo over their use of a certain song in a TikTok video made together. While rumors regarding Sommer Ray and Tayler Holder’s on/off relationship continue, with the two seemingly back together, they teamed up with Jason Derulo and his girlfriend Jena Frumes to make some TikTok videos together. Although it mostly seemed like harmless fun, several people have called the group out over one video in particular. The ability to use different sounds in TikTok always helps keep content fresh and different, but the group picked one that has upset a few people – including the creator of the sound himself. Together, the quartet decided to dance to og_taco’s sound, which uses Down AKA Kilo’s song “Lean like a Cholo.” ‘Cholo’ is a term commonly used by Latin Americans when talking with or about each other, and some viewers thought using the song in their video was in bad taste, including ogtaco himself who created the ‘challenge’, which you can see the stars dancing to here. Before long, commenters had called them out for using the song, saying that it is “disrespectful,” and og_taco himself said that it “doesn’t feel right” to see them using it. Derulo, however, wasn’t having any of it, and asked taco for an explanation. He said: “Please explain to me why we shouldn’t dance to this song? Because I don’t get it.” He went on to add that he would “never want to exclude any race” from dancing to his music.” It doesn’t seem as though any more has happened since then, but the comments on Sommer’s original post are very much split, with some saying it is disrespectful and others saying that there is nothing wrong with it. Nonetheless, the video has stayed up, so it seems Sommer, Tayler, Jason and Jena do not see any issue with the video themselves.

Sommer Ray throws shade at Charly Jordan after Tayler Holder split – Dexerto
Sommer Ray throws shade at Charly Jordan after Tayler Holder split Instagram: Sommer Ray / Charly Jordan[jwplayer mgzBNoPb]YouTuber and fitness model Sommer Ray may have thrown some not-so-subtle shade toward fellow influencer Charly Jordan — which some fans think may have been sparked due to her relationship with Sommer’s ex-boyfriend Tayler Holder. For those out of the loop, Sommer Ray and TikTok star Tayler Holder were involved in a short-lived romance this summer, which was well-documented by enthusiastic fans scouring Holder’s videos. However, the two split up shortly thereafter, with Ray appearing to hint at some “disrespect” in their relationship in a cryptic Tweet. That’s not all; the two even unfollowed each other on Instagram, but were seen hanging out a short while later, brushing off any talk of drama and referring to each other as “besties.” It seems that there might be bad blood between the two stars once again, however, after Sommer appeared to throw some major shade toward Holder’s current squeeze, singer and model Charly Jordan. While it hasn’t been confirmed that the two are dating, they do seem to be getting quite cozy — and it doesn’t look like Sommer Ray is here for it, who even hit out at her ex-friend in a Tweet after she and Tayler’s breakup that read, “Girl code doesn’t exist to some b**ches, I swear.” Paparazzi from Pap Galore caught up to the fitness model during a walk on the town a few months later in September, asking if she and Charly were “back on good terms” after their apparent previous beef. “I don’t really care about her,” Ray said, motioning the topic away with her hand. That’s not all; when asked if she’d ever do a collaboration with Charly, Ray answered with an unenthusiastic, “Probably not,” turning back to her friends with a laugh. (Topic begins at 0:45) While it’s been quite some time since their initial spat, it doesn’t seem like these two influencers are interested in being friendly anytime soon — especially considering that Charly and Tayler might still be getting a bit too close for Sommers’s comfort zone. Whatever the case may be, fans are awaiting a response from both Charly and Tayler at the time of writing, who have yet to comment on the shade.

Sommer Ray reveals why she turned down $40M earnings from OnlyFans – Dexerto
Sommer Ray reveals why she turned down $40M earnings from OnlyFans YouTube: George JankoModel, influencer, and DJ Sommer Ray revealed the unexpected reason why she turned down making an estimated $40 million from OnlyFans. OnlyFans has become quite a popular platform for many prominent content creators — as well as an extremely lucrative one, with some influencers reportedly earning millions of dollars on the site. For example, YouTuber and streamer Corinna Kopf claimed that she earned a whopping $4.2 million from OnlyFans just three months after joining back in 2021. It looks like her cash is still up, too, as she just bought David Dobrik a $500k Ferrari. Other OnlyFans models have also reported earning big bucks on the platform, with 6′ 2″ creator Marie Temara recently saying she’s raked in a jaw-dropping $295,000 a month since making her debut. Given that so many influencers are making big profits on the site, it seems like joining up for OF would be a no-brainer — but that wasn’t the case for internet-famous model and DJ Sommer Ray. Sommer Ray is a fitness influencer who has become a veritable sensation on Instagram over the years thanks to her toned physique. She’s also got her own clothing line and often DJs at high-profile events, but it’s clear that her image is also a major part of her success. Sommer Ray explains why she’s never made an OnlyFans During an April 13 podcast with YouTuber George Janko, Ray revealed that she’d actually been advised to make an OnlyFans account to jump on the gravy train… but she ended up turning it down. “At that time it was like, every single person in my life was coming to me and telling me, ‘If you don’t start and OnlyFans, you’re stupid,’” she explained. “The money I could make would be insane. In that time, with COVID — someone was saying I could have made $40 million or something like that.” “I’ve worked so hard to try to change my image, in the sense that, I’m not just the a** girl. I’m not just that. I have many layers. But if I do that, it puts me in that stigma of ‘OnlyFans girl.’ You know what I mean?” (Topic begins at 42:21) “I’m not really in it for the money,” she continued. “I want to look back on my life and be like, ‘Wow, I created my empire and I did something special that I’m proud of.” Sommer Ray isn’t the only major influencer who’s giving OnlyFans a wide berth; popular Twitch streamer xQc has also spoken out against the site, notably claiming the platform is “hindering” mankind in a divisive spiel earlier this month.

Sommer Ray reveals behind the scenes of latest fitness photoshoot – Dexerto
Sommer Ray reveals behind the scenes of latest fitness photoshoot Instagram: Sommer Ray[jwplayer ksH6zuKH]Instagram influencer Sommer Ray has shown behind the scenes footage from her latest fitness photoshoot. Sommer, one of the most-followed influencers of Instagram, shared a 20-part update to her story revealing the behind-the-scenes of what goes into her regular posts. It hasn’t yet been revealed whether Sommer was promoting clothes for her shop in her latest range of activewear, but fans can expect confirmation very soon. Sommer showed off her sculpted physique while posing for cameras holding weights in a blue leotard, a white leotard, a turquoise bikini, and a patterned leotard with cutouts. In one video Sommer stands drenched in water under a shower bathed in neon blue light. The model and internet superstar has built up a huge audience with nearly 8 million followers on TikTok and more than 25 million followers on Instagram. She also runs her own podcast with fellow influencer Amanda Cerny, called ‘OHoney’, although the pair haven’t recorded an episode in over three months. This could be because of all the extra work Ray is putting into her clothing line and other ventures. All of this started with just her own, amateur photographs and videos, but she’s now a well-established professional, and the behind-the-scenes look reveals how much work goes into creating her IG portfolio. Sommer has turned her passion for fitness and popularity online into a business opportunity, having created her own brand of fitness-wear which she frequently promotes on her Instagram and TikTok. In May, rumors surfaced that the star was dating TikTokker and Hype House member Taylor Holder after they were pictured together by influencer photographer Bryant. The pair continued to have an on/off relationship until Charly Jordan was spotted having lunch with Tayler Holder, after images surfaced on July 11, which led to Tayler later revealing that he was single yet again and “allowed to have friends.”

Sommer Ray joins ‘he’s a 10’ trend with perfect TikTok Sommer Ray, TikTokThe ‘he’s a 10 but’ trend has been going viral on TikTok and finally influencer Sommer Ray has joined in. The trend, of course, is not limited to just one gender. There have been hilarious examples for both the ‘he’s a 10’ and ‘she’s a 10’ trend since it first popped off. For those who don’t know what the meme means, it is essentially users expressing a red flag that would discourage them from being interested in a person who looks perfect. On August 3, Instagram model Sommer Ray – who has over 26 million followers on the platform – has jumped on the bandwagon. Sommer Ray posts TikTok for ‘he’s a 10’ trend Previously, the entrepreneur has admitted that if somebody sees their partner following her on social media, it’s probably a red flag. In a new TikTok post, she’s wearing a pair of sunglasses, glaring into the camera. The caption says: “When he’s a 10 but follows Sommer Ray on Instagram…” A few others joined in with the meme, in the comments. One reply said: “When she’s a 10 but oversleeps & doesn’t come over…” This was followed by: “Still a 10 because I follow you anyways.” Another said: “You’re a 10 because you are an absolute stunner with eyes like gold.” Whether or not following Sommer Ray is a red flag for most people is unknown, but she certainly seems to think it is – doubling down with this latest TikTok trend.

Sommer Ray responds to fans petitioning her to join OnlyFans – Dexerto
Sommer Ray responds to fans petitioning her to join OnlyFans Instagram: sommerrayInternet sensation and DJ Sommer Ray clapped back at fans who have begun a petition for her to start an OnlyFans. Sommer Ray has been a prominent influencer since 2013 when she began posting videos on Vine. She eventually shifted into modeling around 2016 and shared fitness videos on YouTube not long after. Having been established for quite some time, Ray has stood firm in sticking to business and not joining OnlyFans. However, fans have begun a petition for her to start making content on the OF platform. Ray has since clapped back — and it wasn’t the first time. Person who started Sommer Ray’s OnlyFans petition wants to raise $2,000 so she’ll join Sommer Ray is often seen online influencing her clothing brand Sommer Ray’s Shop. Not only that, but she keeps busy as a DJ who puts on shows all across the globe. As her fan base continues to grow, she currently has 1.7M YouTube subscribers and over 25M followers on Instagram. Though she’s also known for her sculpted physique, Ray has been adamant about not shifting into the world of OnlyFans. So when her fans recently began a petition for her to join the OF platform, Ray instantly called back saying, “Y’all are sick.” The fan who started the petition has a goal of raising $2,000 on GoFundMe, as they believe the more money donated, the more likely Ray will join the OF platform. This isn’t the first time Ray has had to defend herself against fans wanting her to start an OF. This past April, Ray was on a podcast with George Janko when she explained how people called her “stupid” for not joining OF. Ray also said she could have made $40M in revenue had she joined OF but she chose not to. Going into detail about why she refuses to make explicit content, Ray said, “I’ve worked so hard to try to change my image, in the sense that, I’m not just the a** girl.” Ray continued, “I’m not just that. I have many layers. But if I do that, it puts me in that stigma of ‘OnlyFans girl.’ You know what I mean?” Though it’s clear she will not be joining OF anytime soon, Ray does have a couple of stops left on her 2023 The Sommer Tour where she will put on DJ sets and stick to the business she knows best.

Sommer Ray hits out at Charly Jordan over Tayler Holder relationship – Dexerto
Sommer Ray hits out at Charly Jordan over Tayler Holder relationship Instagram: sommerray, charlyjordanAfter Tayler Holder and Charly Jordan officially confirmed that they’re together, Holder’s former flame Sommer Ray has spoken out and given her thoughts — and she’s not exactly happy. [jwplayer MCWtJUdj] Tayler and Charly confirmed that they’re together in an Instagram post on October 13 following weeks of speculation that kicked off not long after Tayler and Sommer appeared to bring their relationship to an end. At the time, there definitely seemed to be some beef between the two influencers, with Charly accusing Sommer of blocking her, but things have gone quieter recently as the three of them had nothing to say. Now, though, Sommer has been asked about the new developments, and she clearly isn’t the biggest fan of how everything has gone down. In an interview with Pap Galore on YouTube, Sommer was asked how she felt about the two of them making it official, and she simply said that she’s “happy for them.” Things took a turn, though, when she was told that most people now believe she “wasn’t lying” about what went down between the two of them. Sommer insisted that Charly was actually the one lying, though what exactly she was lying about is unclear. Sommer could mean that Charly lied about the reason her and Tayler initially met up for lunch, or that she lied about Sommer blocking her on social media, making it impossible to talk it through. Topic starts at 1:07 Sommer obviously isn’t impressed with how Charly conducted herself in the period of time following her and Tayler’s breakup, despite saying that she’s happy for the new couple. Needless to say, the two women are unlikely to be best friends any time soon — but it will be interesting to see if Charly ever responds to Sommer’s accusations.

Sommer Ray hits out at ‘ugly’ ex in cryptic TikTok clip – Dexerto
Sommer Ray hits out at ‘ugly’ ex in cryptic TikTok clip YouTube: Sommer RayInternet star and model Sommer Ray threw some shade toward her ex-man in a cryptic TikTok post that’s leaving fans scratching their heads. Sommer Ray’s dating life has been a hot topic of interest for her fans. The fitness influencer / DJ / model is pretty popular online, boasting over 26 million followers on Instagram and 12 million over on TikTok. Notably, Sommer Ray got into some beef with ex-man and fellow influencer Tayler Holder back in 2021 after the almost-couple’s romance was squashed before it could become official. Since then, she’s been connected to Cole Bennett, a well-known producer for rap music videos. The two often posted affectionate selfies together on social media — but now, fans aren’t so sure everything’s on the up and up for this couple. Sommer Ray throws shade at “ugly” ex-boyfriend On January 24, Sommer posted a short clip to TikTok that’s leaving viewers confused… especially since she disabled any comments on it. In the clip, Sommer Ray lipsynced to audio that says, “Now that I’m really looking at him… this b*tch kinda ugly.” The influencer paired it with a caption that read, “When you see a picture of your ex.” For now, it’s unclear what ex she’s talking about. At the time of writing, it doesn’t look like she’s got any pics of Cole on her Instagram page, and he doesn’t have any photos with Sommer on his, either. However, it’s just as likely that she could be talking about Tayler Holder, who has been the subject of the internet’s ire for some time following murky accusations against him that surfaced back in early 2022. At the time of writing, it’s not certain who Sommer is talking about, and it doesn’t seem like she’s divulging any more information, leaving curious fans hoping for more deets at some point in the near future.

Sommer Ray has “fallen in love with celibacy” and wants to wait until marriage Instagram: Sommer RayBodybuilder and influencer Sommer Ray revealed that she is focusing on “celibacy” moving forward and shut down online trolls for making negative comments surrounding her decision. Sommer Ray is an American bodybuilder and fitness influencer who has amassed a major following on social media thanks to her various motivational videos, tips, and more. With over 25 million followers on Instagram, Ray has developed a legion of fans. However, as is the way with social media, Ray has also found herself at the receiving end of online harassment, particularly in regard to her sexuality and dating life. In a new tweet, Ray revealed that she has “fallen in love with celibacy” and added that “if you wanna date me, we’re waiting till marriage.” However, the comments section of the post was soon flooded with trolls who called out the influencer for her previous dating history. This negativity prompted Sommer Ray to write up a follow-up defending herself from said online users. “To anyone being annoying in the comments about my body count… I actually have a very, very very low body count and only have slept with guys I’ve been in a serious relationship with. I’ve never had a one-night stand & have always had a 3 month rule. Thank you very much.” Over the past year, Ray has been open about her desire to move away from being overly sexualized in the media space, even admitting that she turned down the chance to start an OnlyFans account because of this. During an April 13 podcast with YouTuber George Janko, Ray revealed that she’d actually been advised to make an OnlyFans account to jump on the gravy train… but she ended up turning it down. “I’ve worked so hard to try to change my image, in the sense that, I’m not just the a** girl. Sommer Ray hints at hot tub stream that could “crash Twitch” – Dexerto
Sommer Ray hints at hot tub stream that could “crash Twitch” Instagram: Sommer RayFitness influencer Sommer Ray has hinted that she will be starting her own Twitch channel and could be going live in the form of a hot tub stream. The ongoing ‘Hot Tub meta’ that’s taken over Twitch in the last few months has Just Chatting streamers pushing the boundaries as to what is acceptable. But it has also become a controversial topic within the community. Big streamers and personalities including Pokimane and Ethan Klein have voiced their opinion on whether these hot tub streams should be allowed on Twitch. The hot tub streams don’t actually break any rules under Twitch guidelines as bathing suits are permissible as long as they are being worn in an appropriate environment (e.g. a beach or pool). Now, it appears that influencers not native to Twitch are coming on to the platform to take advantage of the latest trend. Internet personality Sommer Ray and Mike Majlak joined Adin Ross’ stream on May 17, in which Adin asked “Are you excited to be on the Twitch?… your grind starts this week.” Sommer expressed her excitement for her new internet venture but asked Mike and Adin for help because she didn’t know where to begin. Mike and Adin then thought that one way for Sommer to get started would be joining in on the hot tub meta. (Topic starts at 3:12) As a fitness model, Sommer is known for some of her thirst traps across different social media channels, often posing in revealing outfits or tight-fitting activewear. Since she certainly has the body for it, there is no doubt a hot-tub stream would amass a large audience. Although Sommer seemed a little hesitant to run with the idea, Mike and Adin were both certain that if she were to do that kind of stream it would “crash twitch,” and commenters underneath the video certainly agreed. After getting seeing some enthusiastic comments from viewers, Sommer seemed convinced and decided to buy a hot tub, and even Mike loved the idea for himself and his own content. Recently, some users reported that you can’t actually talk about the meta on Twitch’s own channel, and so if this is the beginning of some kind of crackdown from the platform, influencers won’t have much longer to take advantage of the money-making trend.

Sommer Ray explains why social media is making girls insecure – Dexerto
Sommer Ray explains why social media is making girls insecure Instagram influencer Sommer Ray has enjoyed tremendous success on the platform, but has revealed some of the real pitfalls of social media and her frustrations regarding young girls becoming insecure as a result of using it. The American fitness model has over 23 million followers on her account, with many of her most popular posts featuring workout videos and snaps of her in the gym working hard to improve. However, while her story and mission to always get better resonates with a lot of users on Instagram, attracting millions of reactions and likes on posts regularly, she’s also not prepared to duck some of the real issues that the platform is possibly having on society. Particularly focusing on young girls, Sommer discussed potential insecurities born out of regular social media use during a post on January 9, and she’s clearly frustrated by the negative impact it’s having on people from this generation. “Everyone has different battles, different insecurities, and what’s sad for me – for young girls in this generation – is that social media and all these things – there’s so many different things to make you feel insecure, comparing yourself, all of these different things, so I really feel for girls.” The influencer also noted that she went through some of the same feelings while growing up, where she doubted herself and was unsure about what path to take in order to grow as a person, as seen in the video below. https://www.instagram.com/p/B7FQftDgLVj/ According to a study conducted by the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) in the United States, social media not only has an “enduring impact” on adolescent life, but the impacts on girls was greater in their analysis. They cited cases of anxiety, depression and cyberbullying resulting from increased screen time, as well as a lack of balance between social media and other activities among many girls. It wasn’t all doom and gloom in Sommer Ray’s clip, however, as she pointed out things that can really help boost a young person’s confidence, too. “Sometimes when you’re young, we all go through stages where we’re insecure and feel hard on ourselves,” she said. “Especially when you’re young you don’t even know who you are.” Ray added: “You look at yourself like: ‘Who am I? I don’t even know. I don’t know what I like,’ because you’re growing. Self love and making you look good doesn’t come from looking in the mirror, it’s coming from the inside, going to work out to better yourself.” She will be hoping many of her fans, particularly those who are comparing themselves to others and being negatively impacted by increased use of social media, take her advice on board.

Sommer Ray claims Machine Gun Kelly cheated on her with Megan Fox – Dexerto
Sommer Ray claims Machine Gun Kelly cheated on her with Megan Fox Instagram: Sommer Ray/ Machine Gun KellySommer Ray has claimed that rapper and post-punk star Machine Gun Kelly cheated on her with his current girlfriend Megan Fox after appearing on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast. Machine Gun Kelly frequently works with and socializes with internet stars, most recently working with Corpse Husband for his new single, and previously with Chase Hudson and Jaden Hossler for his musical movie “Downfalls High.” 24-year-old Sommer Ray, a fitness model and TikToker, was confirmed to be publicly dating MGK in March 2020, but it appears that they broke up a month later in April when the rapper tweeted about her turning up at his house to collect her things. Shortly after, MGK revealed to the world that he was dating Megan Fox, who had also appeared in the music video for his single Bloody Valentine. The pair now seem inseparable with Megan having said in interviews that she believes they are “Twin Flames.” Almost a year later, Sommer now claims that MGK cheated on her in an episode of Impaulsive where she spoke in detail about her dating life, including what really happened between the two and how she feels about it now. “If you look at the timeline of us dating, we were together in Puerto Rico,” she began. “He’s filming with Megan Fox, you know he’s hyped about it. I was like cool yeah, so I waited in the hotel the whole time when he’s filming with her and I’m not really thinking anything of it.” (Topic starts at 35:00) She added that at first, she didn’t feel threatened because Megan was older, had been married, and had kids, even though she’s widely regarded as one of the most beautiful women in the world. However, she explained that she began to suspect when she wasn’t invited to the filming of “Bloody Valentine” where Megan and MGK get extremely close. Sommer was keen to clear up what really happened after some of her ex’s fans targeted her online: “He went to Twitter and made it seem like I was the devil, like I broke up with him on his birthday. “I got death threats for weeks and weeks after that from all his cult following of ‘you suck blah blah’, that’s not what it was at all. He just wanted to break up with me because he was dating Megan.” Although she did confirm there were no hard feelings, even joking about Megan’s beauty, saying “The thing is that’s why I’m not even mad about it. I’m like ‘dude, I’d probably do the same thing.’” Sommer also revealed that she had never once slept with the singer, as she keeps a personal rule that she waits for around three months to test if the person is really worth it.

Sommer Ray and Tayler Holder spotted together despite breakup drama – Dexerto
Sommer Ray and Tayler Holder spotted together despite breakup drama Instagram: TaylerHolder/Instagram: SommerRayPopular fitness model Sommer Ray and TikTok star Tayler Holder were spotted together after rumors started flying that they had apparently broken up after unfollowing each other on Instagram. TikTok has created a whole new wave of stars, and as they gain popularity, fans want to know what they’re doing away from the quick videos. In the case of Tayler Holder, fans have desperate to get the ins and outs of his relationships. In recent weeks, he’s created a whole host of TikToks alongside model Sommer Ray, with Bryce Hall even adding to the speculation that they were romantically involved. Though, following talk of a break-up as they apparently unfollowed each on Instagram and deleted a number of TikToks, the pair were spotted together once again. They were caught together in Beverly Hills by The Hollywood Fix, who immediately quizzed Sommer and Tayler on their relationship. “We’re just friends man,” Tayler said, before Sommer chimed in with “friendship goals.” The pair brushed off suggestions of a collective name for their supposed relationship, and joked that if they were to release merch together, they’d only go as far as dropping friendship bracelets. “Bestie merch,” Sommer added as the pair laughed about what they’d just been asked. Obviously, for some fans, seeing the pair together again will no doubt reignite talk that their summer sling is back on. Though, Sommer and Tayler were pretty steadfast in the answers that they are only friends. Whether or not they will continue being cryptic about things, very much remains to be seen. Though, fans will be keeping their eyes peeled for any sort of hint about them confirming they’re back together – be it a new TikTok, a refollow on Instagram, or a few less vague posts on social media. Everyone will just have to wait and see what unfolds.

Sommer Ray calls out “disrespect” amid Tayler Holder breakup drama – Dexerto
Sommer Ray calls out “disrespect” amid Tayler Holder breakup drama Instagram: sommerray2, taylerholder[jwplayer 3rV0GuQ7]Popular fitness model Sommer Ray has had a well-documented but short-lived romance with TikTok sensation Tayler Holder in recent weeks, but she’s now called out “disrespect” in a cryptic tweet that seemed to be aimed at him. Sommer and Tayler made a number of TikTok videos together throughout May and June and they seemed to grow very close, something heavily hinted at by Sway House member Bryce Hall. Just a couple of weeks later though, it looked as if their summer fling was as good as over, with the two unfollowing each other on Instagram and a series of tweets that seemed to fit within the context. Now, another tweet has come out that many fans of the former couple believe to be aimed at Tayler – and Sommer definitely isn’t happy about whatever has happened. Although no reason has been given for why the two ended their relationship so soon, having kept it somewhat private and not spoken publicly on any details of their relationship, it definitely looks like someone acted out of line. The new tweet, which Sommer posted in the early hours of June 16, manages to say a whole lot in very few words. “Your apology needs to be as loud as your disrespect was,” she demands in the cryptic tweet, which many believe is aimed at Tayler. If this is about Holder and their relationship, then the implication is clear: she believes that he has wronged her, and while he’s apologized, the apology itself simply isn’t up to scratch. Neither party has explained what went wrong in what seemed to be a blossoming relationship, but with the way they separated so quickly and suddenly, many believe it to have been a pretty big problem. We might not ever find out unless either Tayler or Sommer decide to speak out, so followers will just have to remain in the dark for now.

SomeOrdinaryGamers slams The Completionist’s response to charity fraud accusations – Dexerto
SomeOrdinaryGamers slams The Completionist’s response to charity fraud accusations YouTube: SomeOrdinaryGamersSomeOrdinaryGamers has uploaded a lengthy response to The Completionist’s legal threats. In the video, Mutahar doubles down on his previous accusations of charity fraud against The Completionist and The Open Hand Foundation (OHF). A recent joint investigation by YouTubers Karl Jobst and SomeOrdinaryGamers’ Mutahar sent shockwaves through the wider internet. The two accused fellow content creator Jirard Khalil, better known as The Completionist, of charity fraud. Initial reports revealed that The Open Hand Foundation (OHF), a charity run by Jirard and his family, was withholding funds in excess of $600,000 donated through the Indieland Charity Stream. A follow-up investigation from Jobst and Mutahar also accused the OHF of misreporting donations. After a prolonged period of silence, Khalil and the OHF finally donated the funds and responded to the accusations in a video that many believe exonerated him. Both Jobst and Mutahar promised their own follow-ups and now, Mutahar has published a 55-minute on the SomeOrdinaryGamers YouTube channel dissecting Khalil’s assertions that he did not commit charity fraud. Mutahar escalates accusations of charity fraud against The Completionist In the response, Mutahar accused The Completionist of dodging major points of their investigation with “legalese”. He included a two-minute supercut of Khalil naming specific charities that the OHF had supposedly worked with, which in his own response, Khalil determined were “potentially misleading”. “That is you literally trying to downplay actual misleading claims,” Mutahar asserted. “The whole story exists because people were misled into believing that their money was going year-over-year to charity when it was really just f**king sitting in an account.” The video focused on instances where Khalil used terminology like “main funding support partners” to describe the OHF’s relationship with existing charities. “When they were talking about ‘potentially misleading’, I don’t think that was ‘potentially’ misleading, that’s pretty f**king misleading,” Mutahar contended. Mutahar disregards The Completionists audit recipts In response to Mutahar and Jobst’s initial report on the OHF withholding funds, The Completionist produced audits from governing bodies to prove that the money had not been spent. “An audit literally just proves that the money was moved around properly,” Mutahar explained. “It would never actually address the main criticism which is that the money was actually solicited through misleading statements.” Regarding the follow-up reports alleging the possibility of misreported donations to the OHF, The Completionist made mention of specific dollar amounts accrued from other sources. He did not however provide any documentation to prove the accounting. “How can anybody say that he provided a tangible receipt when he doesn’t show anything on the screen, and he doesn’t show anything linked in the description?” Mutahar asked. “It literally requires you to take this man’s word, which over the course of this whole investigation, has shown you should do anything but.” Mutahar’s assertion was that soliciting donations based on misrepresenting a relationship with other charities falls under legal definitions of charity fraud. Despite threats of legal recourse on the part of The Completionist and the OHF, he appears unperturbed. “At the end of the day, charity fraud is the principle argument that we wanted to see addressed, and we failed to see properly addressed in this situation,” Mutahar contended. “You can’t just put a Band-Aid on it and say ‘UwU oopsie’, and deflect by mentioning irrelevant points.” For all the latest entertainment news and updates, be sure to check out Dexerto’s full coverage here.

TikTok is letting some users experiment with 3-minute long videos – Dexerto
TikTok is letting some users experiment with 3-minute long videos TikTok/UnsplashSome TikTok users are reporting that they have been given the ability to upload three-minute long videos to the platform. Previously, users were able to upload videos with a 60-second maximum, meaning the new update will triple the length of time clips can be. Currently, TikTok only allows for 60-second videos which, while that might not exactly be considered “short”, allows user to very quickly browse through them without much searching. While previous rumor and speculation have indicated that fans are able to upload content outside of that 60-second restriction if they upload a video from their camera roll, many creators have had to live with minute-long videos for quite some time now. Fast forward to December 2020, and that might be changing soon. As originally noticed by Social Media Commentator Matt Navarra and originally reported by The Verge, TikTok has started issuing notices to certain creators that they are now able to upload three-minute long videos to the platform, triple the previous amount of time. Currently, it’s unknown how widely available the feature is. According to the notice, creators who have been given this feature are told they have gotten “early access”, so it’s possible and incredibly likely that only a very few, select amount of people have the ability to create three-minute long videos and that it’ll remain like that for a while. 😮 TikTok is rolling out ability to upload longer videos of up to 3 minutes long 🤳🏻 pic.twitter.com/9ifs7s7Uh3 — Matt Navarra (I quit X. Follow me on Threads) (@MattNavarra) December 2, 2020 Unfortunately, beyond this, there’s no other information available about the feature. There’s also no timetable as to when it will be available to all content creators or if it ever will become available to others. It also has yet to even be officially acknowledged by the company in any capacity, with no notice posted to their Twitter account or website, so it may come down to the fact that they want to see how it does before they even talk about it. All in all, it’ll be interesting to see what happens with this feature in the future. Given the fact that 60-seconds is a relatively short amount of time, it makes sense to have longer videos on the platform. Still, it remains to be seen how the company will handle it in the future.

Someone paid Solid Snake’s voice actor to say ‘Squeeze my hog’ Yeah, you read that right – someone actually paid the voice actor of Metal Gear protagonist Solid Snake to say, “Squeeze my hog.” Voice actor David Hayter, known for his cool and accommodating nature towards fans, met the Metal Gear community’s requests for him to say the line, which was borne out of a meme by popular Twitch streamer and Vinesauce founder Vincent ‘Vinny’ Jabroni. “Vinny, this is Solid Snake,” Hayter said in Snake’s voice. “I’m told that you play a lot of Metal Gear games, and that you’ve developed a joke of telling Raiden, in Snake’s voice, to ‘squeeze your hog.’” “So, I only have one thing to say,” he continued. “Raiden… squeeze my hog!” Apparently, Twitter users Lorelei and Round of Apology paid Hayter to say the phrase, which Vinny had popularized through his stream. “God dammit, David,” Vinny said of the clip, laughing. “This is one of the best fuckin’ things ever, and I can’t believe this exists.” However, he made sure to explain that the joke wasn’t borne of an innately sexual nature. Read More: Jake Paul teases next boxing opponent, reveals motivation behind crazy pranks in Shane Dawson docuseries – “It wasn’t gross, like I wanted Raiden to squeeze Snake’s hog, like yeah,” he stated. “No, it was much more innocent than that.” It is worth noting that Hayter appeared to find some humor in saying the line, as a small laugh escaped him during the video – which Vinny also found hilarious. “He’s got a good sense of humor about himself,” Vinny said. Metal Gear fans are having a field day with the line, which has since been shared across the internet.

Soggy Nugget TikTok: Scary chef goes viral with bizarre cooking videos – Dexerto
Soggy Nugget TikTok: Scary chef goes viral with bizarre cooking videos TikTok: Soggy_nuggetTikTok account Soggy Nugget (Soggy_nugget) is going viral on social media for their bizarre videos that include a scary creature cooking basic meals, with viewers both spooked and fascinated by the strange content. Since content on TikTok started moving outside of just lip-syncing videos, ‘FoodTok’ managed to find a home on the platform, sharing recipes and cooking tips with viewers. Some celebrity chefs have even made their way onto the app, including Gordon Ramsey, who Duets people’s videos to call out their cooking. However, it looks like someone even scarier is making waves in the FoodTok community, and they go by the name of Soggy Nugget. While Soggy Nugget consists of a range of weird characters that make appearances in the videos, the main one that is going viral both on TikTok and other platforms like Twitter, is a creature that the person behind the camera affectionately calls ‘Little Chef.’ Little Chef is a person dressed in long sleeve baggy black clothing, with what look like litter-pickers for arms. Their face is covered with a white mask, and they communicate exclusively with horror-like groans. But in a contrast to their horrifying appearance, the creature makes relatively wholesome food content, cooking basic things like toast and eggs using their pincer hands. Often accompanied by rather jolly music, the videos are weirdly charming, and several Twitter posts including the TikToks have racked up hundreds of thousands and likes on Twitter. Viewers seem to have decidedly mixed feelings about Soggy Nugget. “This is super cursed and also the funniest goddamn thing I’ve seen all week,” one viral Tweet read. A TikTok commenter wrote, “I was a little spooked at first, but I feel safe now knowing he also hates bread endpieces,” with another saying, “these videos bring me such comfort, I should see a therapist to find out why.” https://twitter.com/USofJR/status/1364654550993432576 The bizarre videos are right at home on TikTok, and they certainly appear to be popular, with Soggy Nugget at over 3.7 million followers at the time of writing. They even have their own merch store. While the account might be a bit too spooky for some, others are loving the strange mix of bizarre and wholesome content.

Solid Snake voice actor hits out at EVO over controversial Tekken prank – Dexerto
Solid Snake voice actor hits out at EVO over controversial Tekken prank Konami / EVO / Twitter: DavidBHayterDavid Hayter, the legendary voice of Metal Gear Solid character Solid Snake, has hit out at the organizers of the EVO tournament for using his voice to make a joke during the event in Las Vegas. EVO is one of the biggest events on the fighting game calendar, and is often used to promote new content, characters and even upcoming titles that will be released in the near future. The tournament organizers decided to use that hype to play a practical joke on the audience, using a voice line of Solid Snake to hint that he would be joining Tekken 7, only to reveal that it was a prank, raising the ire of the community, and now David Hayter himself. In a series of tweets released by Hayter on Monday, August 5, the voice actor made it clear that he was not happy with EVO’s joke, and made it clear that he does not want to see this kind of thing happen ever again. “You failed to consult me, or Konami,” the 50-year-old tweeted. “Please do not use my voice to promote other games. Ever.” EVO, You also failed to consult me, or Konami. Please do not use my voice to promote other games. Ever. — David Hayter (@DavidBHayter) August 5, 2019 Fans were left wondering how EVO got their hands on a voice recording of Solid Snake saying: “That’s some good ass Tekken,” with Hayter confirming that he had received a request on Cameo, a site where people can pay money to have celebrities record a message for them. When a fan surmised that EVO sent the request on the site, but Hayter wasn’t aware it was for a huge company, the actor agreed, writing: “Exactly. I am happy to record private Cameos for anyone. But it is not okay to use my voice for the promotion of other properties.” Exactly, I am happy to record private Cameos for anyone. But it is not okay to use my voice for the promotion of other properties. Thanking you all in advance. DH — David Hayter (@DavidBHayter) August 5, 2019 EVO were forced to issue an apology to upset fighting game fans, explaining that the video shown during the Tekken finals was their “idea of a little joke,” and wasn’t intended to imply a character reveal. Whether Tekken fans will see Solid Snake in the game now following this stunt remains to be seen, with no official information available about the subject from either Konami, who owns the Metal Gear Solid franchise, or from Bandai Namco, the publishers of Tekken.

Sofia Franklyn says she still hasn’t recovered from Call Her Daddy drama – Dexerto
Sofia Franklyn says she still hasn’t recovered from Call Her Daddy drama YouTube: No JumperAfter she left the wildly popular ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast in 2020 following some public drama, Sofia Franklyn has revealed that she still experiences effects on her mental health as a result of the situation. The ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast was started in 2018 by hosts Alex Cooper and Sofia Franklyn, and was originally partially owned and distributed by Barstool Sports. The show gained a large amount of popularity very quickly, but in 2020 the show took a stumble after public drama began surrounding new contractual terms and pay. While Alex agreed to the new terms, Sofia didn’t come to an agreement, and this led to her exiting the podcast altogether. In October 2020, Sofia went on to release her own podcast titled ‘Sofia with an F,’ and Alex Cooper has now signed a $60 million deal for Call Her Daddy with Spotify. https://twitter.com/callherdaddy/status/1404803385468010501 The host has now spoken about how much of an impact that public drama had on her, and told No Jumper viewers that it’s still having an effect on her mental health a year later. She explained that while the podcast had already gained a lot of traction, this drama made it more popular than ever. “We were huge,” she said, “but that drama just blew it the f**k up in a way that I can’t even explain, it was wild. People love drama, they f**king love it.” Sofia also explained why there was no balance when it came to her and Alex responding individually after everything blew up. “I think there was no strategy that could have saved me in that instance. Because if you’re looking at these ‘sports bros’ and the audience they had, and then you’re looking at the platform I was on for two years, you know, she was able to release her side to all those people.” Topic starts at 14:48 “What did I have? My Instagram account? I couldn’t get on the podcast and release anything, you know? So they had literally millions of people, I had whatever I have on Instagram, like 700-800,000.” The podcaster even revealed that the situation is still having an effect on her to this day. “I’m still not recovered, to be completely honest, like I still have things that are lingering from that, and it happened a year ago. Mental health, not good, let’s put it that way.” Alex Cooper’s $60 million deal with Spotify for Call Her Daddy was announced on June 15, and the show will be moving exclusively to Spotify on July 21.

Sofia Coppola’s daughter Romy goes viral on TikTok after being grounded for helicopter incident TWITTER: savbradsSofia Coppola’s daughter Romy Mars went viral on TikTok, after claiming that she was grounded for trying to charter a helicopter using her parent’s credit card. In a now-deleted TikTok post, the teenage daughter of director and actress Sofia Coppola and Phoenix lead singer Thomas Mars made wild claims about her famous family. “Make a vodka sauce pasta with me because I’m grounded,” Romy began in the video, which has since gone viral on Twitter. “I tried to charter a helicopter from New York to Maryland on my dad’s credit card because I wanted to have dinner with my camp friend,” she confessed. The 16-year-old told viewers that she decided to disobey her parents by finally creating a TikTok account since she was in trouble anyway. “I thought I would do this since I’m already grounded because my parents’ biggest rule is, like, I’m not allowed to have any public social media accounts. Here’s why,” she said, before holding up her dad’s 2010 Grammy Award. “They don’t want me to be a nepotism kid, but TikTok is not gonna make me famous, so it doesn’t really matter,” Romy said. Horror games have long been a staple of Twitch, as viewers enjoy watching their favorite personalities get scared out of their minds. However, sometimes jumpscares can get the best of them. This is what happened to popular streamer Sodapoppin during his March 18 broadcast. Playing a seemingly harmless title quickly turned into a startling experience that had his headphones flying off. Sodapoppin trolled by jumpscare The streamer was trying to decide what to play for his audience when he decided to open up his list of games to tackle. He then came across a horror game called ‘Tikyo Loves You.’ At first, he was hesitant to try out the low budget-looking game, but then said “f**k it, let’s take the plunge, I’ll play it.” After reading notes and running around for about seven minutes, Soda started to think it was just an endless hallway as the level began to repeat itself. “So I’m reading notes from another dude. Sounds to me like he died. Or got tickled or something,” he laughed. “It’s a really scary game,” he said sarcastically. He then turned the corner and from out of nowhere a massive monster rushed him. Soda screamed and knocked his headphones off as he jumped from out of his seat, instantly regretting his sarcastic words. Shaking off the jumpscare, he stretched his arms before sitting back down and talking to his chat. “Phew! I had to stretch. That was crazy!” he said, jokingly playing it off. It appeared the entire purpose of the game was to get to that moment, as the ending credits popped up for the streamer afterwards. “And I beat it!” he said, quitting out. The Twitch star didn’t seem too thrilled with the horror title, as he told his viewers ” That f**king blew a*s. I didn’t like that at all.” Although seeing a silver lining to the experience, he exclaimed “But at least I got to stretch my legs!” While the streamer was clearly startled enough to jump out of his seat, it could have happened to the best of them. If nothing else, this is a good example of how even a lower budget horror game can still bring the scares. Sodapoppin was “convinced” he was going to be murdered during trip to France Twitch: SodapoppinTwitch streamer Chance ‘Sodapoppin’ Morris told his viewers a chilling story about the time he visited France, and was convinced he was going to get murdered on the very first night. Sodapoppin is one of Twitch’s longest-serving content creators, he has been a regular on the website ever since 2011. A large portion of his lengthy carrier has been spent in the “Just Chatting” category, reacting to various videos, talking to his chatters, and telling stories. But few stories that he told feature him as frightened as the story he told about his first night in France, when he thought he might be killed during his trip to the foreign country. Sodapoppin scared for his life during stay in France Tired from his flight overseas and still adjusting to the new place Soda ordered groceries and food. Unfortunately, he got into an altercation with the french lady delivering the goods, and they had to resort to conversing via google translate while standing out in the freezing cold for half an hour. As soon as this was resolved, the streamer took everything inside, and right at that moment the power went out. Exhausted Chance “convinced himself” that the delivery lady wants her revenge, and so he spent the rest of the night walking around armed with a bat. “I’m being serious. I’m f**king convinced. It is miserable. It really felt like a movie. And I was also a little drunk,” he recalled his emotional state. “I didn’t sleep on the plane. I cannot sleep on planes. I have been up for 30 hours at this point.” The streamer describes that he calmed down after some time and that he had to cozy up to a fireplace since the power did not return for the rest of the day and night. But overall, Chance looks back on the trip very fondly.

Sodapoppin slams people making NFTs & crypto “their personality” – Dexerto
Sodapoppin slams people making NFTs & crypto “their personality” SodapoppinTwitch star Chance ‘Sodapoppin’ Morris roasted social media users who adopt NFTs and cryptocurrency as the basis for their online identity. Sodapoppin was streaming Dead by Daylight on December 23, when he opened up about a trend on Twitter that has been bothering him. While the game booted up, he vented to his audience: “Dude, I keep getting followed by f**king people who are verified on Twitter, and I’m like ‘Oh, who is it?,’ and I look at it, ‘NFT connoisseur, talk to me about Bitcoin!’ Like, that’s it?” Soda explained he understands why people do such heavy promotion of NFTs and crypto through social media, adding: “I mean, I get it, it actually makes a lot of people a lot of money.” Read More: Top 10 most expensive NFTs ever sold – However, this doesn’t mean he’s on board with the aggressive promotion of non-fungible tokens. He ended his thoughts with, “But, holy f**k, it’s become people’s personality at this point.” The streamer released a video back on September 8, where he educated himself on the world of NFTs and described their pricing as “ridiculous.” Sodapoppin isn’t the only streamer who has been publicly skeptical of NFTs. On November 27, fellow Twitch star Asmongold slammed NFTs and said, “Am I the only one who finds people scrambling to spend thousands of dollars on a picture of a monkey ridiculous?” While Soda respects people finding ways to make a profit using new technology, he made it clear he’d like to be left out of it for now.

Twitch streamer Sodapoppin slams Reddit and Twitter for promoting “losers and incels” – Dexerto
Twitch streamer Sodapoppin slams Reddit and Twitter for promoting “losers and incels” Twitch streamer Chance ‘Sodapoppin’ Morris went on a huge rant on social media sites like Reddit and Twitter for popularizing comments regardless if they’re coming from “losers.” The variety streamer was referring to sites that use a voting system that moves the most voted comment to the top of the thread, but Soda thinks the system can encourage misguided opinions to be normalized. Sodapoppin resisted going on a spiel as the streamer ripped into the sort of people that he believes tend to be featured on some of these social pages. After his Twitch Chat had suggested Reddit as being a culprit for that kind of system, Soda clarified that the system and its problems were bigger than that. “Any type of messaging system where like there’s a comment that gets voted to the top, is a terrible fucking system and literally just the worst,” Sodapoppin said. “… Even Twitter is like that, such a fucking terrible system. Cause usually the only people that take time to comment are actual losers, at least the majority, in most situations. ” Soda’s opinions on the social sites also hit on the dangers that they can have in regards to the spread of misinformation to people who can get easily swayed by the top comments. “So you have a bunch of people reading these comments and they’re all a bunch of losers upvoting each other, ‘I agree with this incel statement because I’m also an incel. let me upvote it…’ Then you have normal people go and read it, and they’re like ‘Oh, so this is how normal people feel about this situation’ and then they’re influenced by what they don’t realize are losers,” Sodapoppin said. Sodapoppin isn’t too keen with how these popular social media sites can let the wrong kind of information be encouraged and easily circulated.

Sodapoppin shares embarrassing story about getting in trouble at school – Dexerto
Sodapoppin shares embarrassing story about getting in trouble at school Twitch: Sodapoppin / UnsplashDuring his March 4 broadcast, Twitch streamer Chance ‘Sodapoppin’ Morris revealed the hilarious reason why he was sent to the principal office when he was in school. Sodapoppin is one of the top streamers on Twitch, boasting millions of followers to his channel. He was well known in the World of Warcraft communities, and has built a viewership on his variety streams. However during his recent broadcast, the popular personality told a story about getting sent to the principal’s office while in school. And the reason is one of the most hilarious things you will hear all week. Sodapoppin shares hilarious school story The streamer was in the middle of playing Survival Horror game Daymare: 1998 when he got onto the subject of his school years with his chat. He then admitted that he attended a religious private institution. The Twitch personality talked about almost being bullied once, but clarified that it quickly stopped because students’ punishments were amplified due to the strictness of the rules. “Because you got to understand, it was a Christian private school, alright? So like everything you said that was bad in that school was amplified because there was a chance you would be saying it to someone that’s going to report you to the principal. And you could get expelled,” he explained. Soda admitted that he had to actually go to the principal’s office on his very first day of school. He explained to his viewers that he had gotten into trouble with one of his teachers. “I got sent to the principal’s office day one of my private school, because I said ‘Oh my God’… Or actually, I said ‘Jesus Christ, I’m bad at art!’ Like I said that, and the art teacher heard me and said ‘You can’t say the Lord’s name in vain!’” His revelation of what landed him in hot water had his chat in stitches. He then exclaimed, “Then I said ‘Oh my God, I’m so sorry!’ … I said the Lord’s name again. She thought I was f**king with her, so principals office!” We’ve all been there, getting into trouble at school for what at the time seemed like an arbitrary rule. However if Sodapoppin’s story is anything to go off of, it seems private schools don’t mess around. The streamer continues to crush it on the Amazon-owned streaming platform. At the time of writing the personality has over 2.6 million followers, and is one of the top watched channels.

Sodapoppin shocked over Twitch layoffs with staff not told who has lost their job – Dexerto
Sodapoppin shocked over Twitch layoffs with staff not told who has lost their job Sodapoppin was shocked to discover that the Twitch employees dismissed on March 20 were not told who was being laid off before the public announcement. The layoffs are part of wider layoffs across Amazon, Twitch’s parent company, which involve cutting around 9,000 staffers. This means that Twitch will see 400 people leave its team. Sodapoppin, who uses Twitch as his platform of choice, was reading the briefing when he realized the staffers had not been told who was leaving the company. “Wait, the people who got fired don’t even know who yet? Oh my god. That’s crazy. “I mean I don’t know how this kind of stuff works, I’m just a stupid streamer. But that sucks. That’s got to be stressful as f*ck. “There are 1100 people working and 400 people got fired? That’s almost half. That’s a 50% chance. Why is Twitch laying off so many people? These dismissals are part of Amazon’s wider business strategy to cut down on staff numbers. In a memo, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said that the push in recent years to rapidly hire more people across Amazon had made economic sense, but that the current instability meant it was now time to rollback on some of those expansions. He said: “Given the uncertain economy in which we reside, and the uncertainty that exists in the near future, we have chosen to be more streamlined in our costs and headcount.” For more news on Twitch, check out our coverage of Twitch’s new CEO.

Sodapoppin says xQc was “wrong” to ditch QTCinderella’s Shitcamp event – Dexerto
Sodapoppin says xQc was “wrong” to ditch QTCinderella’s Shitcamp event Twitch: DKane / xQcSodapoppin has said xQc was “wrong” to cancel his appearance at ShitCamp on short notice, after controversy was sparked as he said he wasn’t going because Soda himself wasn’t. Speaking on ‘Hatewatchers‘ – a brand new podcast hosted by streamer DKane – Soda was asked about his own reason for not attending, as well as the drama surrounding xQc’s absence. For his part, Soda explained that he had told the organizers that he wouldn’t be attending well in advance, citing his requirements to stream certain hours and the release of the new WoW expansion. Sodapoppin: “it was wrong” “But, [xQc], just suddenly didn’t go. That was weird. And in my opinion, it was wrong for him to have done that. But also, it is like the 50th time that he’s done it. So it comes to a point where it’s like, you know what, never expect him to be f**king anywhere he says he’s going to be. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on you, or whatever.” Topic starts at 1:57:00 xQc was called out by QTCinderella, who leads the organization for Shit Camp each year, and was slammed by Hasan for his impromptu decision not to go too. “Just feels icky to carelessly sh*t on something someone else worked hard on EVEN IF you had legitimate reasons to bail beyond wanting to do gambling streams,” Hasan said. xQc has said that the real reason was due to lots of complicated issues in his personal life, including “family drama” and “relationship drama.” In September, he also revealed that he had split from his girlfriend, fellow Twitch streamer Adept.

Sodapoppin reveals neighbors called police on him after ordering “too many pizzas” – Dexerto
Sodapoppin reveals neighbors called police on him after ordering “too many pizzas” Twitch: SodapoppinLong-time Twitch star Chance ‘Sodapoppin’ Morris got stuck into stories of his past on broadcast — including one where his neighbors called the police after the streamer got “too many pizzas”. Sodapoppin is no stranger to the weirdness that a life on the internet has to offer. He’s an open book when it comes to talking candidly on how his online life can cause issues on a personal level. Following on from an extended absence in early May, Soda has hopped back into his streaming habits with the unfiltered consistency that’s become the brand for the WoW-turned-variety streamer. Talking to his 8.8 million followers on June 6, Morris brought up a story from nearly a decade prior, as the 28 year old discussed a particularly strange interaction with police when he was just 19 years old. In 2013, the streaming landscape was a different world. It wasn’t the mega platform we know it as now, and as such some people were suspicious of how Soda made his living. He described one specific instance of the police being called to his property following a neighbor complaining about “so many pizzas” rocking up to Soda’s house. “This cop was really weird,” he said. “He was getting mad at me, he asked how much I make, I told him honestly and he went on and on and on about how that money… how he should get it. He’s a cop, he does so much more yada yada” Morris added the entire encounter was “really confrontational and awkward.” The cop then took Soda and a group of friends outside for a demonstration of a canine police officer. Soda believed the cop was doing it as “he wanted me to stream it”. The streamer closed out the story by adding the officer reached out to him, out of the blue, with a request to donate to a GoFundMe. It was a weird encounter for the star streamer that he still remembers to this day, but it’s also a marker of how far the streaming world has come in the years since.
