Potential Hawk Tuah Girl vs JoJo Siwa fight slammed as a “disgrace” for combat sports Instagram: hay_welch, itsjojosiwaCombat sports fans weren’t happy when they heard Hawk Tuah girl wanted to fight Artist JoJo Siwa at the July 25 Karate Combat fight between Sam Alvey and Antonio Arroyo. Haliey Welch, also known as the viral Hawk Tuah girl, was invited by Asim Zaidi, the president of karate combat, to join him at their event on Thursday, July 25. Karate combat is a sports league that combines martial arts and boxing. Sam Alvey and Antonio Arroyo will compete in the event in Nashville, Tennessee. Though Hawk Tuah has no known fighting experience, when Asim asked her who she’d like to challenge to a match, she told him she’d like to take on singer and professional dancer JoJo Siwa. “It would be a dream of mine to have you fight in the pit. Is there anybody you’d be down to fight?” asked Asim. With a smile, Hawk Tuah answered, “It’s probably going to be JoJo Siwa… it’s going to be JoJo Siwa!” “That’s what I’m talking about!” Asim responded as both shook their heads in agreement. However, karate combat fans called the potential fight between Hawk Tuah and JoJo Siwa a complete “disgrace” to the sport. “This is such a joke. What a disgrace for the combat sports. Fighting is about honor and man spirit. Not for promiscuous agenda propaganda,” commented one. “Terrible way to represent karate and martial arts in general,” added another. “Embarrassing for this organization. Get a real fight,” quipped someone else. Though Hawk Tuah challenged JoJo to a fight, the artist did not respond. Regardless of whether or not she faces off in the pit, Hawk Tuah confirmed she’d be in the crowd at the Alvey vs. Arroyo fight on July 25.

Postal worker rushes homeowner’s dog to vet after venomous snake bite Facebook: Kelsey ProctorAfter a beagle was bitten by a venomous snake, a postal worker stopped in the middle of her route to bring the dog to an emergency vet. Delivery drivers often bond with homeowner’s animals who greet them on their route. And for one beagle named Ginger, she’s no different, as she would happily wait for treats from the postal worker. However, during one delivery to Ginger’s residence, a postal worker named Holle Keene Prigmore noticed that Ginger was more lethargic than usual. Realizing that it was because Ginger had been bitten by a venomous snake, Prigmore jumped into action and rushed her to an emergency vet. She was later praised by Ginger’s family for saving her life. Postal worker writes note alerting family of dog’s snake bite Kelsey and Aaron Proctor were away from their home when they left Ginger, their beagle, outside for playtime. Though Ginger would typically wait for a treat from the Proctor’s postal worker Prigmore, Ginger was unable to do so from being injured after getting bit by a copperhead snake. Copperhead snake bites lead to mild symptoms in humans. However, dogs should be treated differently, as they are prone to severe swelling, pain, and bruising when bitten by a copperhead snake. Seeing how distressed Ginger was, Prigmore immediately rushed her to an emergency vet. She wrote a note on her phone and aimed it at the Proctor’s porch camera so they could be alerted about where Ginger was and what had happened. Prigmore’s note read, “Little beagle bit by copperhead.” After the incident, the Proctor’s then took to Facebook to share their gratitude, saying, “This sweet woman took our girl to the vet and left us a note on her phone in our camera to see.” They continued, “I want to thank her from the bottom of my heart. Thankfully, Ginger is going to be okay, and I truly believe it’s because of this woman.” The Proctor’s also shared an update on how Ginger was recovering, saying, “She is doing well. She is in pain. Her back left leg/paw is swollen and she is afraid to put pressure on it. She has been resting, getting lots of love, and under some blankies.”

  • Post Malone says Corpse should make a country song during Apex Legends stream – Dexerto

Post Malone says Corpse should make a country song during Apex Legends stream JRE YouTube / CorpsePost Malone thinks Corpse Husband is ready for his country music debut, and the mysterious musician already has an idea for his name in the new genre – should he make the leap. The pop star was playing Apex Legends on Twitch with YouTuber Faide and Corpse when the idea to hop over to country came up. The most interesting part of the interaction: Corpse never said no. If anything, it seems like the popular artist was actually into the idea of making a country song, which would be a fair departure from his usual slate of track releases through the years. Corpse has put out banger after banger, and it sounds like Posty thinks he’s got it in him to keep that streak going while dropping a track completely different from his norm. The two were about to drop on the Apex map during Malone’s charity stream for United Way when the star had a novel idea for Corpse to get in the country spirit. “I’ve been telling Corpse [he] should do a country song,” Malone said. And it seems as though this wasn’t the first the YouTuber has heard people saying he should do a country song. “Yeah, they’ve been saying that. ‘Crops.’ That’s my country name.” he joked as more people encouraged him to try out the genre. Time will tell if Corpse tries it out. Should he decide to, he’s already played Apex Legends with at least one big country enthusiast that could help him refine his sound. Post Malone performed covers from Dwight Yoakam a couple of times in the past, and it the artist’s style perfectly translated across the genres. It’ll be interesting to see if Post Malone and Corpse Husband link up for any possible country collab, as cross-fan bases react to their latest Twitch stream.

Post Malone reveals his favorite video game soundtracks that still give him “chills” YouTube: First We FeastAustin ‘Post Malone’ Post has never shied away from discussing his deep love for gaming. On Hot Ones, the musician dived deep into nostalgic soundtracks that still hit him on an emotional level. Post Malone is a bonafide rockstar, long gone are the days of him busking in the background on other people’s Twitch streams. Now he boasts billions of plays on Spotify and 22.2 million followers on Instagram. The ‘Sunflower’ singer put himself through the spice gauntlet on YouTube interview show ‘Hot Ones’. Combining extreme heat with detailed research, Post was confronted with an image of himself in a hilariously ridiculous gaming setup. Following up the blast from the past, host Sean Evans hit Posty with the question “How important is music to the gaming experience?” Living up to the title ‘video game junky’, Mr. Malone lit up with glee as he discussed the impact music in-game has had on him. Talking about his experience playing Elden Ring, Post said he had to turn the music “all the way off.” Clarifying the “insane” soundtrack of ER, he continued “it’s literally choirs, not of Angels. Of Demons,” before finishing by saying: “After a fight, I’m shaking.” Doubling down on his love for the tunes within the video game industry, the Grammy award winner declared that much of the best music in the world stems from the gaming sphere. Rattling off a strong list of games with undeniable soundtracks, the 26-year-old talked about how the theme song from Skyrim “gave [him] chills” before going on to describe the soundtracks of the Zelda and Elder Scroll franchises. (Topic starts at 9:37) Talking to the ubiquity of music in its ability to transcend borders, Malone stated: “There’s not a person in the world that doesn’t know the Mario song.” Finishing up his answer to the importance of music in gaming, Post stated: “they’re timeless pieces that are super nostalgic.” Closing out this section of the interview, Malone had a simple enough reason for the night vision goggles that sparked the conversation. “I had to get my kill/death ratio up.”

Post Malone reveals how he lost 60 pounds and transformed his life Instagram: postmalonePerforming artist Post Malone revealed to Joe Rogan how he lost 60 pounds and transformed his life for the better. Post Malone, 28, recently made a big shift in his life that helped to transform it for the better — not only for himself, but his daughter, who was born in May 2022. Malone, who was 240 pounds before he lost about 60 pounds, decided that cutting soda from his diet would benefit him the most. Since losing the weight, Malone opened up to Joe Rogan about his transformation and what it’s been like being thinner in the eyes of his fans. Post Malone breaks down into tears on Joe Rogan’s podcast Malone was recently on Joe Rogan’s podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, where he opened up about physically slimming down. As Malone explained to Rogan about how his fans thought he was on drugs due to his weight loss, he broke down in tears, saying, “I know that there’s people [on social media] that genuinely care… but there’s also people [on social media] that are just like, ‘All right kids, this is what f—ing meth looks like.’” Though his weight loss was quite surprising, Malone said that it was solely due to cutting soda from his diet. And although he may only treat himself to a Coke on ice after having a solid performance, he credited the sugary drink, saying, “Soda is so bad. It’s so good, but so bad.” Malone also posted a lengthy post to his Instagram regarding his weight loss, saying that his daughter had an influence on his decision-making, as he’d like to be around as long as possible for his “little Angel.” He also said that although fans assumed his weight loss was due to drugs, he’s been having a good time on stage, saying, “I’m having a lot of fun performing, and have never felt healthier.” As Malone talked about his diet and assumptions from fans, Rogan agreed with the artist that having soda all the time isn’t good for one’s health, saying, “The problem is when people [drink soda] all day every day, your body doesn’t know what to do with that sugar because it’s so unnatural… the key to those things is every now and then, you know?” Though Malone took the time to talk with Rogan about his latest lifestyle changes, he’s currently on his ‘If Y’all Weren’t Here, I’d Be Crying’ tour. Malone also just released his highly anticipated album ‘Austin,’ which reached the number one spot on Billboard’s Top Rock & Alternative Albums, as well as the Top Alternative Albums chart.

Some fans of his have even gone as far as saying that he acts as if he’s intoxicated or under the influence of some sort of drug. As the two watched some of Pinkydoll’s videos, Malone seemed shocked by the success of such a “crazy” video. Rogan commented on how “beautiful” Pinkydoll is and joked that she could just “lick her lips” and make money. They continued to talk about how the NPC streams last for hours and questioned if Pinkydoll ever breaks her character. The two then laughed at the video where Pinkydoll was interrupted by her child and had to act normal. Though Malone and Rogan focused on Pinkydoll in their conversation, other influencers like Amouranth have also gone viral for their unique videos, as she also made a staggering amount by live-streaming herself sleeping.

Porch pirate steals Apple Watch package seconds after delivery driver puts it down X/KyleDorschThieves stealing packages from doorsteps has become a common issue in many cities, but one porch pirate is going viral for stealing an Apple Watch right as it was being delivered. Door cameras have produced some wild content over the years, and one man’s security system captured the moment a porch pirate snatched up a package just seconds after it was delivered. In a video from June 3, a FedEx delivery driver showed up at Kyle Dorsch’s home in Columbus, Ohio to drop off a box containing an Apple Watch. After putting the package on the porch and knocking on the door, a man swooped in, grabbed the box, and quickly ran away – all in broad daylight. Shortly afterwards, the homeowner answered the door, leaving the baffled FedEx driver practically speechless as he mumbled, “He just took your package. I sat it down, I heard a movement, and [poof].” Footage of the wild theft soon spread across social media, where it’s been viewed millions of times. X account ‘PicturesFoIder’ amassed over 17M views on its upload of the video. “While we are home in the middle of the day – they didn’t wait for the delivery driver to leave the porch, they swooped in real quick and went off,” homeowner Kyle Dorsch recalled the situation. Dorsch is hoping that police can catch the culprit before he can strike again, but remains dumbfounded by the experience. “It just seems unbelievable. Didn’t seem real. The rise of package thefts and homeowners sharing their door footage has caused some controversy in the past. In Canada, police in Quebec even warned that TikToks showing thieves stealing packages is a “violation of their private lives.”

After further investigating, he came back to his stream yet again to report his findings, still unsure of what happened himself. “So I thought it was gunshots because it was like ‘boom, boom, boom’ – someone’s in the middle of a construction site watching the fireworks, but that, there’s no way a human set those off.” According to the streamer, due to the rapid bangs, there was no way it could have been fireworks unless someone lined a bunch of them up in a row. “That scared me!” he admitted before rolling right back into bed and wishing his stream goodnight. Why is Johnny in a cage for 30 days? As Dexerto previously reported, Johnny originally spent 30 days inside a cage back in October 2018 in an attempt to cure himself of a fast food and soda addiction. While his original cage stream resulted in a lot of content because viewers could donate to make him perform tasks, he had a difficult time creating content since. “I had forgotten everything I fought so hard for in the cage, and slowly replaced it with a crazed desire for mediocre content creation,” Johnny explained to Dexerto. “I did horrible things that both me and my family are ashamed of. The pig stream, where I method acted being a pig, 12 hours of Chinese water torture, drinking Belle Delphine‘s bathwater, the human hotdog stream, and I’m sure my chat would add many more.” Considering that craziness happens even when Johnny is trying to sleep, it’s likely the caged streamer is getting his content fill. Only time will tell what other crazy shenanigans he gets himself into.

Popular YouTubers Schaffrillas Productions reportedly involved in fatal car crash Schafrillas/TwitterThe minds behind YouTube group Schaffrillas Productions were reportedly involved in a fatal car crash, leaving two dead and another in critical condition. It was first reported by Lehigh Valley Live that James Phyrillas, the creator behind the YouTube channel Schaffrillas Productions, is currently in critical condition after a car crash. Unfortunately, his brother, Patrick Phyrillas, and a friend, Chris Schaffer, both passed away as a result of the accident. Patrick and Chris were 22 and 25. The car crash is said to have happened on Sunday when their car was struck by a tractor-trailer at an intersection in their small town in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. YouTubers behind Schaffarillas Productions involved in fatal car crash There was no traffic signal at the intersection, according to the report. The deaths were ruled as accidents by the coroner. But the crash is currently being investigated by the Upper Macungie Police. Schaffrillas Productions was the creation of James, with both Chris and Patrick being regular guests in videos. The channel was first created as an avenue for them to post skits during high school, hence the name of the channel being a portmanteau of their last names. But it slowly turned into a place where James would post YouTube Poops, taking inspiration from various popular animated movies. But it wouldn’t take too long until James would slowly transition into becoming a film critic talking about his favorite, and sometimes not so favorite, animated films. However, the off-kilter humor from his time creating YTPs never left him, as many of his review videos would go on to be edited by other YTP creators, lending a unique sense of humor mixed with incisive commentary of films which they would go on to be known for.

  • PorcelainMaid overcame fears with VTubing, thanks to a marionette doll – Dexerto

PorcelainMaid overcame fears with VTubing, thanks to a marionette doll Twitter: theCecilz / SuppliedPorcelainMaid is a stalwart of the indie VTubing scene. He was doing it before there was even a recognized name or community. Seven years on from his streaming start — six as a VTuber — much has changed, especially as he’s grown as a person. It can be a bit of an experience tuning into a PorcelainMaid stream for the first time. If you’re unprepared for the voice that comes out of the six-foot “sexy female doll”, it might be a bit shocking. Most viewers are relatively chill, getting a laugh out of it before sticking around for the shenanigans. It’s also a decent way to weed out any bad actors who might use that as a point of harassment. That’s just who Jowol is now though. A long-time streamer and content creator of more than a decade, he can’t really see himself as anything other than, well, “a bisexual’s wet dream — sexy male voice trapped inside a sexier female body.” The origin story doesn’t really stop there. In fact, that’s where the fun begins, as he jovially recounted how this obscure marionette became his callsign. “It was an OC I made,” he told Dexerto. “I’d take things I was scared of and then draw them really hot, then that way I’m not scared of them anymore and I feel more attracted to them because I thought that’d be a good way to get over things. “I took a porcelain doll and turned it into this hot, tall anime woman that had the ball joints and I was like ‘wow, not as scary anymore’, and that’s how the OC became to be. Then I chose the character to be my VTuber way back when because I was playing around with VRoid and I just made my OC in it, and it just became my VTuber.” That was a split-second decision made six years ago now, and one he couldn’t be happier with. It took a while for him to get used to, but this is just who he is now. Through PorcelainMaid, he has become one of the most recognizable characters in the English VTubing scene. It’s not just his looks, but his longevity and veteran status that makes him remarkable. He’s seen as an inspiration for many in the scene, and a name often floated when newly-debuted VTubers highlight who gave them a final push down the rabbit hole. And while you may think an extensive history online might take its toll, he’s still got pep in his step for plenty of years to come. VTubing before it was even a thing Jowol has an extensive history of creating content long before PorcelainMaid was dancing around on our screens. He started as many people did in the early days of YouTube — random videos centered on his favorite games like Halo Reach. “I would do Halo Reach Forge map reviews, do blogs, but as an 11-year-old you’re just dumb and you don’t really know what to say,” he laughed. “It was the worst thing ever. I’ve shown [my Twitch] chat some of my old videos.” But there was something missing in the content he made. He loved chatting to people and just passing the time with wacky stories. That was something lacking in his YouTube space, which up to 2016 only had a few people in the comments at any one time despite him actively trying for six years to that point. There wasn’t a community. That led PorcelainMaid to Twitch, where he would start streaming to try and find a group of like-minded people and get some back-and-forth flowing. “I immediately fell in love with it because there’s a community to be had, people are actively watching your stream from the very beginning until the end, and you get to hang out with people,” he explained. “I don’t go outside much. Even if I did have friends in school, they weren’t really people that I wanted to hang out with or spend my time with. Being able to do this and spend time with people who I want to is a joy to me.” As he continued to fall in love with the medium, his goals started to narrow down. For Jowol, there was no future beyond his love of art and streaming. There wasn’t anything else motivating enough to go to college and study. While he had flirted with the idea of using his art skills to become a newspaper cartoonist — an idea he laughs at now because “when was the last time you saw a newspaper floating around” — he put all his energy into becoming the best possible content creator. That crossover led PorcelainMaid to VTubing, even if he didn’t really know it. Starting to get involved in the wider communities through streaming, he fell into the rabbit hole in 2017 after learning about VRoid from fellow early adopter ‘rosedoodle’. “Back in the day it was just Kizuna AI,” he said. “There wasn’t that much of a space back then. It was mainly artists doing everything with it — Hololive [and NIJISANJI] weren’t much of a thing. “We never really saw ourselves as VTubers. What we were doing was VTubing though. I would call it ‘anime girl-itis’: when I was young I had a disease that turned me into a 6’1” anime girl. Crazy how that worked out.” His story of transitioning from regular streaming, where he’d occasionally show his face, to VTubing is very common. There was an equal amount of support and confusion. Back then though, there wasn’t a huge community to lean on — at least, that’s what Jowol thought. “Since I didn’t use the word VTuber, there was apparently a community growing without me. There was Hololive, NIJISANJI, the indie scene, VRChat people turning into VTubers, and I just had no idea. I didn’t have an idea of what a VTuber was until early 2019 when Zentreya raided me with around 300 people and I was like ‘woah, what is this, somebody else who does the thing I do?’ “It was really cool finding out there were other people around me. I got into the community and found a bunch of other VTubers that were starting out, and it was enjoyable.” There was a little tinge of regret surrounding the fact if he hopped on earlier, maybe he’d be bigger or have made it mainstream faster. But there’s a silver lining: “it’s a gradual growth, and I think that’s something a lot of people can look up to. “A lot of people nowadays think VTubing is something where you blow up or you don’t. You can look at my stats, point to them, and say you can gradually grow into a [successful] VTuber if you keep bashing your head into a wall until it goes through.” That point has resonated with the community too. If you were to ask many upcoming VTubers who are only starting to break into the wider consciousness nowadays, two of the names they’d point to as inspirations are the aforementioned Zentreya, and Jowol. That’s a point of pride for the veteran streamer: “A lot of newer-age VTubers would watch me a lot of the time, but never told me they were watching my stream. I only found out when they told me years later saying ‘I was lurking in your stream before VTubing was a thing and I liked watching your little model move around.’ That’s really cool to me. “VTubing is such a wonderful thing. I know a lot of people can look at it with negative connotations, but VTubing is what you make out of it. You’re just using a mascot to represent yourself on stream. “Yeah I do some light roleplay — I’m made out of porcelain, I have my own lore video, and I keep the lore very important to my streams and keep that immersion as much as possible even if it’s light — but it’s really cool to see I made other people become VTubers and they get to enjoy this experience as well. “It’s not only something I do for income, but it’s my only hobby. If I don’t have streaming in the future, I don’t know what I’d be doing. I wouldn’t have anything I enjoy… While I don’t recommend being as reckless as me, I wanted to do this.” Smashing through gender norms VTubing does often get boiled down into a gendered game. People look at the overwhelming success of women in the field, and a comment about how it’s all eye candy and no substance isn’t far from that gaze. PorcelainMaid knows this plight more than many other VTubers. His male voice does cut through the visuals of his model. As much as it shouldn’t be a point of contention, it does lead to transphobic comments (something he takes great pride in quashing whenever they crop up). “If you come into my stream and try to say gross things, it’s easy to take it and turn it against them and use it for my own content,” he laughed. “It’s not a traditionally male role for a very masculine person to be inside a feminine body. It says no to gender norms which is what I really like, and I like that I can be comfortable with myself and just be more open with my sexuality — more expressive. “I’ve gotten a lot of DMs from people saying ‘you made me feel comfortable with my voice.’ Maybe it’s someone who is trans…maybe it’s just someone who is plain uncomfortable and they’re using a model that is different from one someone would usually perceive [with their voice]. “They don’t have to take sh*t from people because they can look to me and say ‘if Jowol can do it, I can too.’” On top of that, as women started thriving online, male VTubers struggled to take flight until the Luxiem branch of NIJISANJI EN exploded onto the scene. From the early days, Jowol noted it was only a natural reaction to feel a little jealous. “When I started, I had insecurities about ‘do people not want to watch me because I’m a man,’” he mused. “But I realized no, that wasn’t a thing, and even if it was, why would I care? Those aren’t the people who are going to be watching you in the first place. “I don’t want to use the word ‘male VTuber’ to describe myself. Yeah I’m a man and I use a VTuber model, that’s it. When you start using gendered terms, you start creating a divide between yourself and other people and that seems really lame to do. “You have to just stream, and find your niche.” VTubing, as a medium, is a powerful tool for expression. There is really nowhere to be bound by the traditional gender norms of society. You can look how you want, and if you want to go the extra mile with a voice changer, sound that way too. It’s why there’s a massive trans community. Fans might have preferences in what they want to watch, and that’s something Jowol acknowledges: “When you want to watch somebody who is male-presenting, with a deeper voice, because that’s your preference, I can understand you putting on a label. “But when you’re a VTuber and you’re putting that on yourself… it’s not as appealing to me personally. I don’t want to define myself as a male VTuber. I am Jowol, a sexy man trapped inside of a doll. I want to be open to everyone.” It’s an awkward “hill to die on” in Jowol’s words, especially when other streaming spaces are heavily dominated by men. And for all the praise NIJISANJI’s Luxiem and Noctyx, as well as Hololive’s STARS project, get for giving a platform for male VTubers, it still proliferates a divide of the VTubing audience. “I can understand why companies would make them gendered, but I really enjoy how NIJISANJI has been doing it recently where they will make mixed-gender VTuber groups [in ILUNA and XSOLEIL]. “They’re only making the divide worse when they separate teams of VTubers by gender. I think we should specify on it less. We shouldn’t look into it too deep. Let VTubers be VTubers, don’t look at the gender, and let them stream.” Keeping motivated after seven years For someone who has been streaming for seven years and making videos for even longer, PorcelainMaid is rather chipper. There’s a bit of a stereotype about streamers being jaded after chipping away at the craft for years. He’s far from that though. He’s competitive at heart, and seeing the VTubing space continuing to grow around him invigorates his spirit to keep pushing the next frontier. “You’re always happy with your community and you’re happy with what you have,” he reflected. “You always stay grateful and humble. But at the same time, you’re never satisfied with where you’re at, because there’s always someone above you. That sounds a bit competitive, but it’s in the nicest way.” The joy he has captured through VTubing and his little “roleplay” (not too much, though) hasn’t faded yet. And as long as that spark stays alive, there’s no reason to think about leaving. “I wouldn’t be where I’m at right now without VTubing. I’d be stuck, at a dead end, and depressed. In college I was not having a good time. Streaming was my only joy, and without that, I can’t imagine where I’d be. “This is the one thing in my life I wake up for, and it keeps me up every day. It gives me something to do. “I just want to keep growing. I want to feel where I can comfortably be at the same level as my friends without having any inferiority complexes. I just want to stream and keep growing to the best of my ability, and to keep growing my community to spend more time with more lovely people.”

Popular YouTuber MatPat exposes $1.7 million Defy Media scandal Popular YouTuber Matthew ‘MatPat’ Patrick uploaded a video on January 24 exposing Smosh owners and MCN Defy Media, claiming that the company stole $1.7 million from its YouTubers. Defy Media closed its doors without warning in early November of 2018, laying off employees and leaving a number of YouTubers without a leg to stand on. Many of these YouTubers felt that they had been taken advantage of, with some claiming that their checks had been withheld to settle Defy’s debt before shutting down. MatPat backed up these claims in a recent video, alleging that Defy had stolen a collective $1.7 million from its YouTubers – and that he had been swindled by an executive just after the birth of his son, Oliver. “In my case, [money] was taken by someone who I thought I knew,” MatPat stated. “Someone who, only weeks after giving birth to Oliver, hopped on the phone with Stephanie and I and lied directly to our faces knowing full well that he intended to take our money.” MatPat went on to claim that Defy pocketed pay from its YouTubers to pad their accounts in an attempt to woo investors, after asking to withhold a month’s worth of profit from adsense. “We found out later… that they kept the money to make their books look better for the investors,” MatPat continued. Since their shutdown, Defy have been hit with a number of lawsuits from partnered companies and workers alike – with some asking for $100,000 and more in restitution.

  • Popular YouTuber Squizzy accused of assaulting ex-partner – Dexerto

Popular YouTuber Squizzy accused of assaulting ex-partner Instagram: SquizzyPopular Australian YouTuber Hyojin ‘Squizzy’ Choi has been accused of emotionally and physically abusing ex-partner Punk Duck. He detailed numerous instances in a July 19 dossier, including an alleged assault in 2020. Squizzy is one of the biggest YouTubers in Australia boasting a following of more than 1 million subscribers thanks to their popular short animation videos. However they are now facing public scrutiny over serious allegations of assault and abuse. In a dossier titled “my history with my abuser,” Squizzy’s ex-partner Punk Duck detailed the years of abuse he allegedly suffered at the hands of the popular YouTuber. The relationship started out with rose-tinted glasses, although looking back he realized there were red flags pointing towards emotional abuse. “The first six months were mostly fine. Occasionally they would do the classic ‘redirect anger you’re feeling from unrelated issues to your partner’ and berate me but I kept being promised it would stop and I believed it,” Duck said. “Any time arguments would happen they would always be my fault in one of two ways: either I actually f**ked up, or it was a problem they would cause. I would try to approach them and tell them how they hurt me… and it would instantly turn into emotional manipulation.” However, things turned physical at the start of 2020. While visiting Squizzy in Australia, Punk Duck retold a story of how the two got into an argument over installing a game on Steam which led to them hitting him “so hard…my head bounced off the wall.” “This was the first moment I realized I was in an abusive relationship. For a year it was emotional, and now it was physical. So I did what most reasonable people do: I f**king panicked. “I phoned up one of our friends who lived nearby, explained to him what just happened as quickly as possible and… he saved my life. I ask him if I can stay with him for the remainder of my trip and he instantly agrees. He immediately calls an ambulance to their house and an Uber for myself so I can get to his place.” While he was packing to leave though, Squizzy allegedly walked in and threatened not only to stab Punk Duck with a knife they got, but also themselves. “At first they point it at me, then at themself,” he continued. “I lunge to try and disarm them and they scratch up my arm pretty bad. I manage to get the knife but it was at this point that their mother walked in. “She starts screaming at Hyojin, saying they’re an attention whore, a drama queen, how they always do this, that they’re sick in the head and she just walks away like she didn’t see anything. The police show up along with the ambulance. I tell them what happened, and they take my partner away.” With criminal charges on the table, Punk Duck decided to forgive Squizzy under the promise of “things getting better”. However, he later said “forgiving them for this was the worst mistake of my life.” “Letting that go basically opened the floodgates for every piece of textbook abuse you can imagine. How the mildest complication means I don’t love them, constantly suicide baiting — telling me that if I leave they would kill themselves.” Punk Duck eventually broke up with Squizzy in 2021 but feared retribution from them because “they are incredibly vindictive.” While the duo kept their distance for a few weeks, they ended up crossing paths again later in the year, with Punk Duck adding “the more I reflected on my experience, the more terrified I was to have them this close to me”. While Squizzy did apologize privately for the alleged assault, Punk Duck didn’t buy it. “I brought this up to Hyojin directly and they have apologized to me and reassured me that they are seeking help. While that is nice to hear, I have a hard time believing this because the apology came 24 hours after calling me childish… [and] let’s be real, it feels like somebody else wrote it.” It comes after Squizzy apologized for a number of other controversies earlier in 2022, including saying racist slurs on stream and drawing NSFW art of an underage YouTuber. Squizzy is yet to reply to these allegations.

  • Popular YouTuber Mark Rober creates amazing glitter package thief trap – Dexerto

Popular YouTuber Mark Rober creates amazing glitter package thief trap YouTuber Mark Rober showed off his new-and-improved glitter bomb package thief trap in a recent video, and the results may be even more entertaining the second time around. Rober was the one behind the original “Package Thief vs. Glitter Bomb Trap” video released in December 2018 that currently has over 77 million views. But he said despite his best efforts, there were still around 1.7 million packages going missing every day – which means his work messing with porch pirates is far from over. With the help of Home Alone’s Macaulay Culkin, Rober and his team came up with a device that would make Kevin McCallister himself proud. It looks like a regular set of expensive headphones at first glance, but a closer look at the packaging reveals it’s actually a set of “Buzz 700’s” named after Kevin’s brother in Home Alone. The trap consisted of four cell phones facing outward, set to record and automatically and upload their footage no matter what happened to them. Of course, a spinner dispensing glitter goes off when the package is opened, but the 2019 version also includes “fart spray,” a pointless countdown, and random police chatter that would play from speakers inside. Some great footage was captured of two thieves who took the package into a store to open it, before being kicked out once the trap took its toll. “After we tracked down this package and recovered it by the dumpster, we walked by the store,” Rober said “They were sweeping and spraying Febreeze, which felt amazing.” Another thief in a grey shirt seemed stunned as the package exploded glitter, then told him to “keep the change, ya filthy animal,” before hilariously dispensing the fart spray. Amazingly enough, one of the people Rober sent the package to help with the video actually decided to steal it for themselves, so the YouTuber created a bunch of embarrassing postcards and sent them to their neighbors, so they would have to hand-deliver them to the thief. To top it all off, they left the package out by a shared mailbox with a bunch of contact info on it, and rewarded good samaritans who picked up the package and called with $400. It was a great way to reward people actually trying to help, but the highlight of the video has to be the reactions of all the people who got glitter and stank when they thought they were walking away with an easy score.

UPDATE: Popular YouTuber Markiplier may have saved PewDiePie at the last second Markiplier, PewDiePie – YouTubePopular YouTuber Mark ‘Markiplier’ Fischbach has weighed in on the war against Bollywood label T-Series, which is currently competing with Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg to become the most subscribed channel on YouTube. Markiplier went live in a broadcast on December 2, appropriately titling his stream, ‘I Literally Won’t Shut Up Until You Subscribe To PewDiePie.’ During his 48-minute-long spiel, Mark advocated for his followers to subscribe to the YouTube king – who was just barely pulling ahead of T-Series by 100,000 subscribers prior to his upload. Many YouTubers across the space were anticipating Pewd’s inevitable defeat, with the likes of Drama Alert host Daniel ‘KEEMSTAR’ Keem providing regular updates of T-Series’ slow climb to the top. However, after Mark’s stream went live, PewDiePie’s channel saw a massive increase in followers, rising to a count of over 73,268,000 – as opposed to his previous count of 73,127,000 subs. This moment marks a rather humorous shift in Mark’s support for PewDiePie, who had bemoaned both he and Jacksepticeye’s alleged lack of solidarity during his struggle to keep his top spot. • Popular YouTuber demonstrates how YouTube’s copyright system is spiraling out of control – Dexerto

Popular YouTuber demonstrates how YouTube’s copyright system is spiraling out of control TheFatRat, YouTube / Adobe StockPopular YouTuber and music artist ‘TheFatRat’ uploaded a video on December 21, where he explained that one of his original songs had been claimed on grounds of copyright infringement by a music label. TheFatRat explained that he had produced his song, ‘The Calling,’ in 2016, which was met with favorable reactions across the platform and gained over 48 million views by late December of 2018. However, the YouTuber went on to show that he had received a copyright strike on the video on November 19, which had been claimed by a user named Ramjets due to property allegedly owned by music label ‘Power Records LLC.’ After disputing the claim, he found that his dispute wasn’t approved – by the same user, Ramjets. TheFatRat went on to clarify that YouTube’s copyright system sees no mediation from YouTube – rather, the platform leaves the issue up to the claimant, who is unlikely to settle on a video that could potentially turn a decent profit from ad revenue. As it turns out, Ramjets had claimed the video due to a bootleg of the song created by artist Andres Galvis, who admitted that he had no knowledge of the claimant and went on on to verify the issue with YouTube, himself. This has made me so :rage: mad! @TeamYouTube you have to do something about this! Cc @ThisIsTheFatRat pic.twitter.com/N40Ve0VWq6 — KEEM  (@KEEMSTAR) December 22, 2018 After getting nothing but radio silence from the platform, TheFatRat went on to create a petition calling for a revision to YouTube’s copyright claim system, citing a slew of other YouTubers who had encountered similar problems. TheFatRat’s video then gained the attention of Drama Alert host Daniel ‘KEEMSTAR’ Keem, who tagged YouTube in a heated Tweet asking for the platform to take action. YouTube has since confirmed that they have released the claim and terminated the claimant’s channel for “abuse of copyright tools.” Hey Keem – the claim was released early this week. Also, we take action on those who abuse our copyright tools, up to terminating abusive users (which is what happened here). Thanks! — Team YouTube (@TeamYouTube) December 22, 2018

Roberts then tagged YouTuber MrBeast in a Twitter reply, challenging him to top his video. “I challenge you to top this, MrBeast,” Roberts wrote. “KEEP PEWDIEPIE NUMBER #1!” I challenge you to top this @MrBeastYT… KEEP PEWDEWPIE NUMBER #1 — Justin Roberts (@JustinRoberts44) November 30, 2018 MrBeast made major waves across the internet after creating a city wide advertisement campaign to help PewDiePie in the fight against T-Series in late October, buying out every billboard in his city to aid the cause. MrBeast’s campaign incited a massive surge of subscribers toward PewDiePie, with the YouTube king gaining a whopping 30,000 subs in the hour after the video was posted. MrBeast returned to fight the Bollywood menace a second time, where he recorded himself saying “PewDiePie” 100,000 times in an 11-hour-long video. While this second campaign likewise saw a surge of subs for PewDiePie, T-Series has since covered major ground, and are now only 80,000 subs away from overtaking YouTube’s biggest independent creator. YouTubers across the space are scrambling to support the Swede in any way they can, with some even paying celebrities to endorse his channel. However, Roberts has made the ultimate challenge to Pewd’s biggest supporter – who has teased that he might even buy a Super Bowl ad in an effort to squash T-Series once and for all.

  • Popular YouTuber Avxry hits back after being swatted – Dexerto

Popular YouTuber Avxry hits back after being swatted Avxry/InstagramPopular Fortnite YouTuber Avery ‘Avxry’ Lopriore Tweeted that he had been the target of a swatting attack on August 3. Swatting is when someone calls in a crime which requires the response of heavily armed police to an address of another person. It’s already resulted in a few deaths so the criminal penalties for people caught swatting others are understandably steep. 600Why did Avxry get swatted? Avxry, who has over 2 million subscribers to his YouTube channel, tweeted about the swatting on Saturday, August 3. We don’t know why or who orchestrated the attack on the Fortnite streamer, but with such a big online audience it’s sadly not too surprising trolls set their sights on him. 600“Just got Swatted. Everything is all good. The cops were super nice!” The streamer posted on Twitter. “To the person that did this. Sorry you didn’t get a reaction. Please do not swat guys,” he asked fans. “I have tons of kids that live on the block and you are jeopardizing their lives when cops come flying down the street.” Avxry didn’t seem deterred by the incident and said his streams would continue as planned: “The police have taken note of my address so we are all good in the future. Streams continue tomorrow.” The police have taken note of my address so we are all good in the future. Streams continue tomorrow — Avery (@Avxry) August 3, 2019 Why is swatting so dangerous? On top of the fact that a lot of heavily armed police officers are showing up, they think they’re responding to a potentially violent situation, so the chances of someone being hurt go way up. Earlier this year California resident Tyler Barriss, the man who has become known as the ‘Call of Duty swatter’, was formally sentenced to 20 years in prison for a swatting incident he was behind that led to the death of Andrew Finch, who wasn’t even Barriss’s intended victim. Luckily Avxry’s swatting incident was taken care of without anyone being hurt, which sadly isn’t always the case.

Popular YouTube host accuses Wall Street Journal of canceling over $26,000 in donation funds The host of late-night YouTube show ‘The Ralph Retort Killstream’ is fighting back against the Wall Street Journal for allegedly canceling donations from a charity stream, meant to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Killstream is known for both its controversial guests and similarly toxic chat. Users have been known to take advantage of YouTube’s Super Chat system to buy and pin toxic messages in the live chat, further defaming the stream’s reputation. This prompted show host Ethan Ralph to fight back by holding a charity stream to benefit St. Jude’s, a research hospital for children with catastrophic diseases. However, YouTube’s new policy on harmful Super Chats has caused a major rift between Ralph and the platform, as well as the Wall Street Journal – which he is now accusing of taking money away from sick children. Jameskii addressed the issue in a video on January 4, after Tweeting about the incident in a post the day prior. According to the YouTuber, Digital Rights Management company CollabDRM has been “holding his channel hostage” with four copyright claims in a half-month period – and are even asking for money to remove the strikes in question. Jameskii claimed that the incident began after CollabDRM struck a single video with four separate copyright claims, giving vague details as to their reasoning for the strikes. Thanks to independent research, Jameskii speculated that YouTuber Rebecca Zamolo was responsible for the claim, due to his using one of her ‘Tik Tok’ clips in a reaction video. In addition, Jameskii claimed that the company hoped to extort money for him in exchange for removal of the strikes in question – which have now risen to five strikes in total. “Co-founder of Collab is assuring me that ‘your channel is in no real danger,’ offering me to either pay them or let them continue using the claim tool without giving any specifics in the claims,” he wrote in a Tweet on January 4. • Popular YouTubers criticize platform for new ‘stories’ feature – Dexerto

Popular YouTubers criticize platform for new ‘stories’ feature MrBeast, Philip DeFranco – YouTubeInternet video platform YouTube has finally unrolled its own take on ‘stories,’ a feature begotten from social media app SnapChat, which was quickly copied by sites like Instagram and Facebook due to its popularity. The feature, announced on November 29, had actually launched in late 2017 under a different name as “Reels.” Now, it seems the tool has undergone a serious makeover – and big-name YouTubers are already giving their two cents on the update. News YouTuber Philip DeFranco expressed some doubt as to the tool’s longevity in a video on November 29, pointing out that users cannot reply to comments with another text-based comment, but must, instead, create a video reply. Additionally, DeFranco noted that the feature’s staying-power ultimately depends on the community, at large – who appear to have largely mixed reactions to YouTube’s latest initiative. YouTuber CrankGamePlays criticised the platform for rolling out the new feature rather than working on the site’s existing issues, such as “broken” sub boxes and its hotly-debated recommendation algorithm. I really love how YouTube spent their time making a story feature instead of fixing the things that are broken like sub boxes and recommendeds and just the site in general. — CrankGameplays (@CrankGameplays) November 29, 2018 However, other YouTubers have noted that Stories will allow creators to largely increase their revenue, as they can be viewed by both subscribers and non-subscribers alike as a means to engage with their audience between uploads. “Yooo, we can also get paid for stories,” popular YouTuber MrBeast wrote. “Lol youtubers about to acquire that bread if you know what I’m saying.” Yooo, we can also get paid for stories, lol youtubers about to acquire that bread if you know what I’m saying #riseandgrind #StudentAthlete — MrBeast (@MrBeastYT) November 30, 2018 Not all creators will get to take part in YouTube’s new feature, though; stories may currently only be used by YouTubers with over 10,000 subscribers, at present. Furthermore, YouTube’s stories will be available for a full seven days, as opposed to SnapChat and Instagram’s shorter time limit of 24 hours.

Popular YouTuber Ethan Klein of H3H3 responds to widespread criticism YouTube duo Ethan and Hila ‘H3H3’ Klein have seen massive amounts of criticism following their hiatus from their main channel – and Ethan has finally responded to the backlash in a recent episode of the H3 Podcast on November 16. Ethan began by admitting that he had “slipped into a very unhealthy place” regarding his mental health, claiming that his wide acceptance on YouTube early in his career had caused him to feel “overconfident.” “People had me on a very high pedestal back then,” he recalled. “…there’s no doubt, at the time, that it started to go to my head. I’m pretty sure that I started to become more arrogant and overconfident.” He claimed that this overconfidence and a feeling of “infallibility” led him to make “a lot of mistakes,” to which he reacted defensively when he was called out – even so far as having what he called a “psychological shutdown.” He then stated that his reaction to this criticism had forced him into a depression, claiming that his “ego was shattered,” which then affected his ability to create content. In addition, Ethan cited the H3 Podcast’s live format as a struggle for him, noting the differences between editing a video as opposed to hosting a live show. The H3 Podcast has been criticized for misinformation, to which Ethan admitted his guilt, along with claims of “throwing friends under the bus,” among other allegations. While not directly addressed in Ethan’s statement, censorship on the H3H3 channel has also been an issue with fans, as pointed out by YouTuber Memology 101 on November 16. They discovered that the name of YouTuber Gokanaru was being censored in comments on H3H3’s videos after Gokanaru uploaded an hour-long video criticizing Klein in late October.

Popular Streamer m0E Banned Indefinitely From Twitch For “Hateful Behaviour” After Using Homophobic Slur HLTVLong time Twitch streamer Mohamad “m0E” Assad has been handed an indefinite ban from the platform, resulting from his reported use of a homophobic slur. Amazon-owned website Twitch has been cracking down recently on what it calls “hateful conduct”, having issued a similar ban to another popular streamer “Destiny” in recent days. m0E, best known for streaming a variety of games including CS:GO and Fortnite, and was previously a professional Counter-Strike player gained popularity (or notoriety – depending on who you ask) for his often rage-filled broadcasts. He is a charismatic character and so it is no wonder he has attracted many loyal fans, but in equal measure has his detractors, who m0E has suggested started a “witch hunt” resulting in his ban. m0E was open in his admission of using the homophobic term in a recent apology posted to Twitter, saying he had made efforts to curb using the word, as it had become a habit of sorts. He has now deleted this apology tweet after it received considerable backlash, which he says surprised him. I never thought me saying i want to stop saying a certain word would get so much backlash from the ppl that take offense to the word… Im trying to do the right thing. Arguing that i shouldnt of said it before like i can change the past.. grow the fuck up — mOE (@m0E_tv) June 29, 2018 On July 1st, m0E posted the message he received from Twitch confirming his ban, followed up by a string of posts explaining his disgruntlement at the decision. Nice i guess never getting any formal warnings in the past about “hateful behavior” even tho i already made a commitment to change my vocabulary. How do i appeal this ? pic.twitter.com/BhVjcQbcos — mOE (@m0E_tv) July 1, 2018 I got an email from twitch partner conduct when i reply to that email it doesnt go through. So i cant even contact partner conduct to understand how they want about this decision. I feel like i was just part of a reddit witchhunt… — mOE (@m0E_tv) July 1, 2018 Surprisingly, m0E also posted the clip which has apparently led to his ban. He explains that he wants to stop saying the word, but also that it is “one of his favorite words of all time.” Considering Twitch’s recent crackdown, it is unsurprising m0E was eventually banned for the contents of the clip, regardless if it was brought the website’s attention due to the “witch hunt” as he suggests. This is the clip twitch sent me as the reason for my ban. https://t.co/9jcfSUuuzh i dnt know what to say. I dnt feek like i did anything hateful there. I was being transparent ablut saying the word and said i will try and stop saying it. But this gets you an indefinite ban. — mOE (@m0E_tv) July 1, 2018 *Update – m0E has now posted on Twitter stating that it is a 30 day ban, presumably having been in contact with Twitch, but says he still doesn’t view the ruling as fair.

  • Popular Twitch extension BTTV stands against PogChamp emote removal – Dexerto

Popular Twitch extension BTTV stands against PogChamp emote removal Twitch / BetterTTVThe creators behind one of the most widely used Twitch extensions, ‘BetterTTV’ (BTTV), have refused to pull PogChamp emotes from its service in light of recent controversy. Despite the January 6 announcement from Twitch that PogChamp emotes would be removed from the platform, BTTV will still be carrying forward with the icon and all of its variations. As a result of controversial statements from the “face of the emote,” Twitch moved to wipe its slate clean of any association. The removal of the global emote sent shockwaves throughout the streaming community. Many of the most popular content creators were understanding, however, even offering new suggestions so that the “sentiment and use of Pog [can] live on.” Just 24 hours removed from the announcement though, and one of the most widespread extensions has no plans to follow suit. BTTV has long been a popular browser extension and its users will still be able to share PogChamps in chat moving forward. We want the sentiment and use of Pog to live on – its meaning is much bigger than the person depicted or image itself– and it has a big place in Twitch culture. However, we can’t in good conscience continue to enable use of the image. — Twitch (@Twitch) January 7, 2021 “BTTV has never removed emotes due to controversies,” its leader ‘Night’ said in a statement to Rod ‘Slasher’ Breslau. Regardless of recent drama, it “likely won’t result” in the removal of PogChamp emotes either. “Users have the ability of choice on our platform,” they added. This means that avid Twitch chatters will still be able to get their fix through the third-party extension. The emotes won’t be accessible on the base version of Twitch moving forward, though BTTV users will still be able to share Pogs around as before. Not only does this pertain to the standard PogChamp emote, but also its many variations. From POGGERS to PogU and everything in between, the global emote took on a life of its own. this includes among others POGGERS, which according to people on twitter right now must be the most offensive emote on the internet pic.twitter.com/diz5fSSZWv — Rod Breslau (@Slasher) January 7, 2021 Similar third party extension FrankerFaceZ (FFZ) took the opposite stance in response to the news. “We’ll be removing depictions of the person from FFZ, but it may take some time,” they confirmed on January 7. “We’re always grateful we get to be part of the continued evolution of emote culture and positive Twitch community symbolism. Looking forward, we’re always grateful we get to be part of the continued evolution of emote culture and positive Twitch community symbolism. We look forward to discovering how FFZ can be a part of this reclamation of positivity. Thanks to @Twitch and our users for staying great! — FrankerFaceZ (@FrankerFaceZ) January 7, 2021 Twitch has plans to allow for the spirit of the emote to live on in some capacity. We already have a few novel ideas from the community. It’s only a matter of time until we see what the Amazon-backed platform has in store. Meanwhile, PogChamp and all of its variations are still accessible through BTTV. It doesn’t appear as though that will be changing anytime soon.

  • Popular Streamer jasonR Banned on Twitch – Dexerto

Popular Streamer jasonR Banned on Twitch DreamHackJason “jasonR” Ruchelski has been banned on Twitch and nobody is sure why. The link to the Canadian’s popular channel now sends users to the dreaded “Sorry. Unless you’ve got a time machine, that content is unavailable.” message, and no explanation has been given. The former CS:GO pro turned full-time streamer’s only response to the ban so far reads “I’ve streamed every day since EPL Dallas 2017 see you on the flippy #freeJRNASTY”. I’ve streamed every day since EPL Dallas 2017 see you on the flippy #freeJRNASTY — Jason R (@JasonRuchelski) August 1, 2018 With no other explanation from the man himself, or Twitch, speculation online suggests that the ban could be due to some recent comments that the 23-year-old made about female streamers. One user, Nobzles, stated “he was banned because he said that all women on twitch are hoe. he said it in a joking manner but he said it”. While this remains nothing but speculation, a mirror of the incident has started to make the rounds online. The CS:GO star can be heard saying that saying that all girls on the platform are “fucking hoes”. The original clip is no longer available, meaning that the context behind jasonR’s comments, and supposed jokes, cannot be confirmed. Opinion on the /r/GlobalOffensive subreddit seems to be split, with some users defending jasonR and saying that his comments were made in jest and others saying that they do warrant a ban if this is, in fact, the reason. It is currently uncertain whether jasonR will be allowed to return to Twitch or whether his ban is permanent. Expect to hear more on this situation as it develops.

  • Popular Streamer Lirik Hits Out at “Jealous” Haters Who Say Streaming is an Easy Job – Dexerto

Popular Streamer Lirik Hits Out at “Jealous” Haters Who Say Streaming is an Easy Job One of the most popular live streamers on Twitch Saqib ‘Lirik’ Zahid, has hit out at those who say he is not allowed to complain about being a full time streamer because it is the “dream job”. Lirik, who has amassed a huge following on the Amazon owned streaming platform, has previously expressed difficulties he has experienced from the pressures and burn out of being a full time streamer. While from an outside perspective, the ability to earn a very solid living from essentially playing video games daily, seems like one of the best jobs in the world for many avid gamers. However, as Lirik and other popular names in streaming have stated in the past, it is perhaps not as easy as it seems ostensibly. Back in January 2018, Lirik himself took a break from streaming on the platform, and from the internet generally, saying it was “getting tiring, mentally, living in meme land every day” and that it had taken a toll on him. He is now back to streaming regularly, but has a new bone to pick – namely with “failed broadcasters who are extremely jealous”, who criticize successful streamers should they dare to say a bad word about the ‘dream job.’ He explained his point of view in a series of Tweets: I’m actually so sick of these fucks who always need to preach how grateful I should be for being in my streaming position. You can’t ever say anything negative because of course, this is a “dream job.” Go fuck yourself. — Lirik (@LIRIK) April 30, 2018 I wish there was a way to talk about streaming as a career, where people won’t dismiss it instantly, by saying it’s amazing. I’m not trying to be a bitch here, I just want to educate and explain but I am always told the default answer of “wahhh wahh you should be grateful.” — Lirik (@LIRIK) April 30, 2018 I guess if you only look at life in one dimension, money, then you are correct. I’m not a very materialistic person though so I don’t think we relate. — Lirik (@LIRIK) April 30, 2018 It is not haters, it’s failed broadcasters who are extremely jealous and are addicted to chasing the fame/status. — Lirik (@LIRIK) April 30, 2018 Read a lot of your comments. Majority of the responses show one thing, they all think money = happiness. Fucking lol. This is what I’m talking about. — Lirik (@LIRIK) April 30, 2018 Lirik has certainly grown a following which would earn him a very decent living, with his streams regularly attracting over 20,000 concurrent viewers. However, perhaps the old saying “if it was easy everyone would be doing it” is fitting in this scenario, as Lirik clearly feels there needs to be a shift in attitude about the pitfalls of being a full time streamer.

Popular Streamer Destiny Goes on a Rant About People Who Voted for the President- “I am Getting Wealthy off of Your Ignorance” Massive streamer Steven “Destiny” Bonnell shared his thoughts on the President’s voters during one of his Twitch broadcasts. Destiny’s Twitch streams delve into gaming and political discussion alike. Following one of these conversations in a Path of Exile and debate stream, Destiny received a message in his chat that inspired a rant about those who voted for the US President in the 2016 election. The message accused Destiny of twisting a discussion to fit his narrative. “I personally like how you reduced the Podesta email leaks into a straw-man about pizzagate, when there was so much more dirt in them. Trump won, because everyone saw what was in those emails… it’s that simple.” Destiny responded in kind, explaining that the commenter had voted for his own tax breaks and healthcare in voting for the US President. “Aw, dude, I’m so glad you fuckin’ voted for Trump… I’m fine, dude. Because you voted for Trump, I don’t have to pay for healthcare next year… I don’t have to pay a tax burden on it. I can continue to hide money through my business. You’re making me richer, dog. I am getting wealthy off of your ignorance.” Destiny also stated that the commenter’s job was more likely to be endangered, as well as saying that they had to have a “sub-ninety IQ” because they were “dumb enough to vote for the President.” Destiny’s language and content have garnered him flack throughout the gaming community, resulting in multiple bans from Twitch and a suspension from Twitter. He continues to stream on Twitch and create YouTube videos, where he showcases his debates and gaming achievements alike.

  • Popular Streamer DrLupo Urges Viewers to Always Seek Help After Distressing Donation – Dexerto

Popular Streamer DrLupo Urges Viewers to Always Seek Help After Distressing Donation DrLupoPopular Twitch streamer DrLupo’s May 27th stream ended in uncomfortable manner when a donator said that he was thinking about ending his life. DrLupo is currently best known for his fun filled Fortnite Battle Royale streams but he has often played other titles in the past and has built a strong community and fan base. Viewers regularly donate and ask DrLupo for life advice but the end of his stream on May 27th ended with him receiving one of the most concerning donation messages a content creator can ever receive. One of his fans, Davy_wavy10, donated with a message saying that he was “ending it all” and donating the last of his money to his favorite streamer, a comment that DrLupo took very seriously and implored his fan not to act upon. “Please don’t do that. Please don’t do that, please find somebody, reach out to somebody right now, talk to them. Please talk to somebody. There are better alternatives than that, okay?” He went on to tell Davy that he expects to hear from him in the morning, asked him to call a suicide helpline, and stated that he expected to see him in the chat during his Monday morning stream. After finishing his stream, DrLupo took to Twitter to reiterate his points and ask anyone that is “considering options” to escape their pain to talk to someone instead. He then once again shared the number for the United States’ National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, 1-800-273-8255. Ended stream with a not-so-happy tip from a viewer. If you are considering options to escape your pain, I guarantee you talking to someone and having a good cry is a better option than every alternative. If you need someone to talk to, please call 1-800-273-8255. Thank you. — DrLupo (@DrLupoOnTwitch) May 28, 2018 We’re delighted to say that Davy did join DrLupo’s morning stream on Monday, May 28th, after emailing DrLupo the night before to thank him. • Popular streamer caught catfishing as a young woman – Dexerto

Popular streamer caught catfishing as a young woman Qiaobiluo Dianxia, DouYuThanks to the rise of live streaming, sites like Twitch and YouTube capture a slew of hilarious and unexpected moments as they happen in real time – but those sites aren’t the only platforms doling out the content. Chinese live streaming site DouYu is a popular platform in the country, and is home to an equally popular streamer by the name of Qiaobiluo Dianxia, also known by her humorous tag “Your Highness Qiaobiluo.” While Qiaobiluo streamed without showing her face, the photos and clips she posted online showed her to be a beautiful young woman – but curious viewers wanted more. 600 Thus, the streamer made a deal with her audience: she would finally show her face on stream for a sum of 100,000 yuan (around $14,500), and went live in an interview with fellow streamer Qingzi to reach her monetary goal. “I can’t show my face until I receive gifts worth 100,000 yuan,” Qiaobiluo reportedly stated during the stream, covering her face with an image of a cartoon character to hype up the mystery. “After all, I’m a good-looking host.” 600 However, “her highness’s” words were completely false, as a glitch caused the graphic to suddenly disappear, clearly showing an older woman in its place – a fact that she didn’t notice until viewers started leaving the stream en masse. As it happens, Quiaobiluo was using face filters to make herself appear younger, effectively duping her fanbase into thinking she was a completely different person. 600 Not unexpectedly, she began to receive stern criticism online, even spawning political cartoons about the debacle – one of which appeared to clown her viewers for donating to her scheme, as well. 600https://bbs.hupu.com/ Despite the widespread accusations of “fraud” and “fake,” the streamer has since bounced back in a major way, garnering half a million followers in wake of the scandal and even becoming DouYu’s most searched content creator on the platform. She isn’t letting the drama slow her down, either, and hopes to become a rapper in tandem with her streaming career. Now that’s something we’d tune in for!

  • Popular streamer CouRage finds a hilarious way to advertise his Twitch and Fortnite creator code live on TimTheTatman’s stream – Dexerto

Popular streamer CouRage finds a hilarious way to advertise his Twitch and Fortnite creator code live on TimTheTatman’s stream Anyone who knows of popular streamer Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop knows that he is the king of advertising his content to the public. Ever since he transitioned to a full-time content creator back in March, CouRage has come up with more and more interesting and cunning ways to plug his Twitch stream and social media, especially when it comes to promoting the use of Twitch Prime on his channel. Now, the former Call of Duty World League caster has come up with perhaps his most hilarious way yet, as he managed to advertise his stream and Fortnite creator code live on the channel of his friend and fellow streamer ‘TimTheTatman.’ Every stream, Tim dedicates time to reading donations and viewing links, which CouRage took full advantage of by donating $70 to become the top donator and get Tim’s attention. Read More: TSM’s Myth and other Fortnite pros call out Epic Games for having a double standard for Ninja – The unsuspecting Tim opened the link only to see CouRage’s face staring back at him, which turned out to be an unlisted YouTube video that he had linked in the donation. My pal, @TimTheTatMan, watches links from the top donation of the day… I spent $70 to send this. 100% worth it. He should have seen it coming. Always plug. pic.twitter.com/x5JYbsLVZq — Jack “”CouRage”” Dunlop (@CouRageJD) December 12, 2018 It was a classic move on CouRage’s part, and a cunning use of the top donation to lure Tim into taking the bait. Even so, he was right in what he said in the tweet, Tim should have certainly seen it coming. That fact that the trick worked could inspire him to continue using it with other popular streamers and content creators, and further his position as the king of Twitch Prime. At the end of the day, this is all just for fun and jokes, but even so, if even a few viewers get swayed to subscriber and follow CouRage as a result of these cunning plugs, it makes it all just that much sweeter.

  • Popular RuneScape streamer banned for using homophobic slur – Dexerto

Popular RuneScape streamer banned for using homophobic slur Popular Twitch streamer Alfred ‘Alfie’ Loera has been banned from the platform after using a homophobic slur during a recent RuneScape broadcast. Twitch is known for its heavily-policed Community Guidelines, and has no qualms swinging the ban hammer if any user breaks them, regardless of popularity. Take Dr Disrespect’s recent ban for streaming in a public bathroom as an example. Bans usually last either 24 hours, three days, or 30 days depending on the severity of the offense, and whether the user has faced repercussions previously. RuneScape streamer Alfie has seemingly been banned permanently from the platform after his 24-hour ban earlier this year for a racist text-to-speech donation. What did Alfie do? During his RuneScape stream, Alfie was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, which led him to break Twitch’s Community Guidelines by using a homophobic slur. It’s not the first time RuneScape streamers have broken the rules. It’s not entirely clear what Alfie was doing when he was broadcasting, but it seems as though he could have been talking to a friend, as he said “you told me to call you back” before looking at his camera and exclaiming loudly, “suck a dick, F-word.” (The word in question is a derogatory slur for a homosexual person, and we do not wish to repeat it here.) The person in the room with him immediately winced, shouting “OOOOH” before Alfie put his hands to his mouth in shock and sunk to the floor, stating, “I didn’t say that, I’m sorry! Fuck! No! I didn’t mean to say it!” (Viewers be warned that the following clip includes NSFW and very offensive language.) There were mixed reactions Reactions to Alfie’s ban were mixed, with the streamer himself tweeting, “I believe I’m permanently banned from twitch, who do I talk to from staff to find out more details and to try to appeal. I didn’t mean to. please somebody help.” I believe I’m permanently banned from twitch, who do I talk to from staff to find out more details and to try to appeal 🙁 I didn’t mean to 🙁 please somebody help — Alfie (@RSAlfierules) June 17, 2019 Support from fans poured in from all over the internet, with many unsure of why he’d allegedly received a permanent Twitch ban instead of a three or 30 day ban instead. “People get banned for saying that?! That’s ridiculous. I don’t understand how people can get so offended BY A WORD,” one Reddit user said. “Because in marketing image is everything and advertisers don’t want to be associated with people that use homophobic slurs, which makes perfect sense. Alfie knew the rules, broke them repeatedly, and got punished,” another user argued. Controversial YouTuber and fellow streamer Paul ‘ICE POSEIDON‘ Denino was quick to jump to Alfie’s defense, tweeting, “[Hope] you get this figured out, you’re too nice of a dude for this punishment lol.” The YouTuber has been embroiled in a few controversies of his own, and is certainly no stranger to internet criticism. How you get this figured out, you’re too nice of a dude for this punishment lol — Ice_Poseidon (@REALIcePoseidon) June 17, 2019 Some people weren’t so forgiving, with one disgruntled person replying to a fan who blamed his use of the slur on a ‘heated gamer moment’ with, “if it’s your first compulsion to say slurs in a heated moment it says something about you as a human, in videogames or otherwise.” :joyful: if it’s your first compulsion to say slurs in a heated moment it says something about you as a human, in videogames or otherwise — PrudenceK (@princesspruk) June 17, 2019 It is currently unclear as to how long Alfie’s ban will be for, whether it’s a 30-day or actually permanent. Twitch is very strict with their Community Guidelines, and if it’s not his first ban then it wouldn’t be surprising if they don’t let him come back.

  • Popular Spanish streamer Wismichu banned on Twitch – Dexerto

Popular Spanish streamer Wismichu banned on Twitch YouTube/WismichuTwitch has banned popular Spanish streamer Wismichu after some disturbing content appeared during a recent broadcast. On March 19, the streamer was banned on Twitch, leading many to speculate on why he was suspended from the Amazon-owned platform. Taking to Twitter, Wismichu revealed that he had accidentally showed some extremely inappropriate imagery involving a donkey. He had been banned back in February after an extremely similar incident. It’s unclear how long the ban will last for, but it comes at a very awkward moment for the Twitch star for a number of reasons. The first, as he explained, was that he had just praised Twitch as a streaming platform when compared to YouTube earlier that very day. “I had to delete yesterday’s video due to copyright and metadata issues,” he wrote. “I hope I can re-release it on Sunday. I will add new things so that those of you who have seen it today can see it again… what a f**king swamp it is to upload videos to YouTube.” “Now it’s wonderful to read the tweet I posted this morning complaining about YouTube and saying that I’ve been very comfortable on Twitch lately,” he sarcastically stated following his ban. Ahora es maravilloso leer el tweet que he puesto esta mañana quejándome de Youtube y diciendo que últimamente estoy muy cómodo en Twitch. Twitch esta tarde: https://t.co/69YVwODVLX pic.twitter.com/pmMQTAvaCz — Isma Prego (@Wismichu) March 19, 2021 Additionally, the streamer was upset that the ban also made him lose a bunch of Shrek gameplay as he was playing through a PlayStation 2 copy of Shrek 2. “The thing that bothers me the most of all is losing the Shrek gameplay,” he said in a tweet hoping that one of his fans had downloaded the footage. The reason for the ban is very similar to what happened with fellow streamer Sebastian ‘Forsen’ Fors after the Swede accidentally showed a gif involving a horse. Forsen was banned “indefinitely” but was eventually allowed back on the site after a month. More recently, Polish streamer H2P_Gucio was banned twice in under a week after receiving a chess invite from a player with nudity in their avatar.

Popular Hearthstone pro thinking of migrating to ‘Mixer’ Popular Hearthstone streamer Thijs ‘Thijs’ Molendijk teased his audience during a livestream on Twitch on August 5, saying that he was going to be partnering with ‘Mixer‘ in the near future. After Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins’ controversial switch to Microsoft’s streaming platform Mixer on August 1, it’s left people wondering if other streamers could also be making the move. During a Twitch broadcast on August 5, G2 esports pro Thijs surprised his viewers when he declared that he would be moving over to ‘Mixer’ too. Thijs’ partnering with ‘Mixer’ While the Dutch streamer was playing Hearthstone, he told his viewers that he was going to be playing on Mixer instead. “I think I might actually play on Mixer today. Or play with Mixer today. If I shall partner with Mixer guys, which one do you think is the best?” he asked. After the shocking revelation that he was considering partnering with Twitch’s rival, the Hearthstone pro then switched out of his game to a Google web search of actual mixers you use for cooking. “I kind of like this design,” the 25-year-old pro laughed, hovering his mouse over one of the cooking appliances on the page. “Seems really, like more modern.” As Thijs continued to look at all the various mixers, he eventually came to the conclusion that he wasn’t sure and then jumped back into his match. After hilariously trolling his audience, the streamer couldn’t help but crack a smile. Given that many have been speculating if other users could be leaving Twitch, the bait and switch was masterfully done. Seems the Dutch pro is not actually going to be partnering with Mixer anytime soon and will remain on the platform, much to the delight of his subscribers. Thijs is one of the most popular Hearthstone streamers on Twitch, boasting over 674,000 followers on the platform as of August 5.

KingRichard was streaming Fortnite on Thursday, November 29, while also showing parts of an NFL game between the Dallas Cowboys and the New Orleans Saints. However, in the middle of his broadcast, Nelson’s stream went down suddenly, as his Twitch channel was suspended. Fans immediately flooded into Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevin’s chat, who was streaming at the time, hoping to find information about why KingRichard’s channel had been taken down. “Dude, he streamed the NFL game?” asked Ninja, with a grimace. “He must not have known. “Yikes, brother. Apparently KingRichard re-streamed the NFL game. Tim had special permission to stream Thursday night games. You can’t re-stream it.” “You can watch it, but I don’t even risk listening to that. You can’t have the audio from it, you can’t have the video from it unless you have permission from the NFL. The NFL has been going to Twitch and to top streamers who love watching football and giving them deals for Thursday Night Football,” confirmed Blevins. It appears that KingRichard saw fellow streamer Timothy ‘Timthetatman’ Betar streaming the game on November 29 and believed he could too, but had his channel taken down due to copyright issues. KingRichard tweeted that had had indeed been suspended for the platform, but that the reason was clear to him and that he was fine. With January 4 being National Roast Day, things would not be complete without Wendy’s going on a nice long session of roasting on Twitter, which included popular Fortnite content creators CouRage and Dakotaz. Well aware of what Wendy’s is fully capable of, both streamers tweeted at the fast food chain asking to be hit with a roast, but even they were shocked at how bad they were burned. CouRage was first, with Wendy’s hitting him with “You’re the only dude that flossed when Ninja asked you to,” referencing the infamous moment during Ninja’s New Year’s Eve celebration stream when the popular streamer stood out in the rain and tried to get a million people to do the Floss Fortnite dance. The result was a cringy few minutes as no one did the dance or even moved much in response, except apparently for CouRage, who was at the celebration streaming with Ninja. Funnily enough, Wendys’ roast towards Dakotaz also had to do with Ninja, for when the streamer asked Wendy’s to “hit him” with a roast, the account replied with “Looks like your Ninja interview beat us to it.” Looks like your Ninja interview beat us to it. #NationalRoastDay — Wendy’s (@Wendys) January 4, 2019 While it appears that CouRage and Dakotaz were the only two Fortnite-related personalities that were hit with roasts, Wendy’s did not discriminate when it came to superstars from other spheres. A scan through their massive thread of roasts reveals that they hit the likes of popular YouTuber David Dobrik, esports insider Slasher, the official SMITE page, KFC Gaming, and many other prominent gaming and content creation pages and personalities. The highlights and best tweets from Wendys’ January 4 roasting spree can be viewed in the thread provided below:

  • Popular Fortnite duo x2Twins banned on Twitch – Dexerto

Popular Fortnite duo x2Twins banned on Twitch Jesse and Jordan Eckley, popular Fortnite content creators based in Australia and known as the ‘x2Twins’, have been banned on Twitch for as yet unknown reasons. The x2Twins have made their name on YouTube through Fortnite, regularly uploading a mix of serious and humorous content. Their popularity and natural charisma with one another has seen them pick up over 2 million subscribers on YouTube. Recent content has, unsurprisingly, focused on Fortnite’s seventh season, which dropped on June 8. Alongside their YouTube presence, the twins have amassed a significant following on Twitch, often streaming FNCS Qualifiers and other tournaments. However, on June 13, the pair were abruptly banned from the streaming platform. ❌ Twitch Partner “”x2Twins”” (@x2twins) has been banned! ❌https://t.co/nEyeaGyGJy#twitch #ban #firstban #partner #twitchpartner 🏷 — StreamerBans (@StreamerBans) June 13, 2021 The reason for their ban is unclear as of the publication of this article, with the twins tweeting to question the ban and convey their confusion. “Just got banned on Twitch?” they tweeted. “I have no idea why we have 0 strikes, literally done nothing to my knowledge? About to f**king cry bro.” i have no idea why we have 0 strikes, literally done nothing to my knowledge? about to fucking cry bro — x2Twins (@x2twins) June 13, 2021 Bans on Twitch generally occur when a streamer breaks Twitch’s rules around streaming, but bans have been known to occur by accident in the past or because of mass reports from trolls. Twitch often faces criticism for their lack of transparency over bans, avoiding comment in nearly every case on why the action has been taken. While a hardline stance is not necessarily unwelcome, it can often mean content creators are initially unclear of the reasons for their ban. That appears to be the case with the x2Twins, who will be hoping for a quick resolution to their ban. As it is their first issue, it will likely be a limited-time ban, perhaps 24 hours or 3 days. We will update this story as more details become clear.

Instead, he edits and cuts the VODs of his Twitch streams and uses that as the content for uploading to YouTube, a common practice among full-time streamers. His great sense of humor, strong ability to entertain, and top level of skill in Fortnite, has allowed him to not only find great success on Twitch, but to also translate that from one platform to the other. Despite this incredible milestone, CouRage will not rest on his laurels and will instead look to expand upon this explosive success he has achieved since turning to content creation full time A former caster for the Call of Duty World League, CouRage decided to part ways with his stable career and explore the mile high potentials of streaming on Twitch, which has certainly paid off for him immensely. With 1 million subs on YouTube, 1.3 million followers, and almost 20,000 subs on Twitch forever cemented into his legacy, Uncle Jack is a prime example of what someone can accomplish when they simply bet on themselves.

  • Popular CS:GO YouTuber VAC banned day after releasing video about stopping cheaters *UPDATED* – Dexerto

Popular CS:GO YouTuber VAC banned day after releasing video about stopping cheaters *UPDATED* A popular Counter-Strike: Global Offensive YouTuber has been VAC banned by Steam only hours after making a video about stopping in-game cheaters. (Update: Foekroka has now been unbanned. More information can be found at the bottom of this article.) VAC bans (Valve anti-cheat bans) are issued for players who utilize hacks in games with VAC-secured servers such as CS:GO, Call of Duty and DOTA 2. Bans from CS:GO are not uncommon, with Valve issuing a large portion of them in one swooping wave. The YouTuber in question, ‘Foekroka’ – who has over 53 thousand subscribers, was issued his ban on December 25, shortly after he had released a video with the headline: “Keeping Christmas safe from CHEATERS!” Both of his Steam accounts – Foekroka and FoekrokaOldMain – show the VAC banned message and the YouTuber has since pleaded his innocence on Twitter, after his VAC ban had been discovered. “Ok so I just realized what it was, I had cheat engine on for NBA 2K19 and didn’t close it,” he tweeted to Steam Support. “So I don’t know what to do about that, or if there is anyway to reverse them. Big yikes.” ok so I just realized what it was, I had cheat engine on for nba 2k19 and didn’t close it. So idk what to do about that, or if there is anyway to reverse them. Big yikes. @Steam_Support — Foekroka (@Foekroka) December 25, 2018 However, some fans pointed out that Steam does not utilize VAC-secured servers for the NBA 2K titles and his argument may be invalid. “Holy hell, I didn’t think it would be this bad” Foekroka tweeted on December 27. “Relax, get mad at me all you want. People like waff, lolyou, etc have nothing to do with my ban lol. I’m not even worried about the ban because I’m sure it will get reverted.” Holy hell, i didn’t think it would be this bad. Relax, get mad at me all you want. People like waff, lolyou, etc have nothing to do with my ban lol. Im not even worried about the ban because im sure it will get reverted. — Foekroka (@Foekroka) December 27, 2018 If the YouTuber believes he has a case, then his VAC ban can be overturned if it’s determined that it was issued incorrectly. However, going through Steam Support is unlikely to help. Valve states via Steam that VAC bans are not “permanent, non-negotiable and cannot be removed by Steam Support.” Update – January 4 2019 It would appear that Foekroka’s explanation for his VAC ban was, in fact, true. The YouTuber’s Steam account no longer has a VAC ban attached to it. The entertainer uploaded a short video to YouTube on January 3 that shows some of the comments he received on Reddit, Twitter and other social media accounts after his original ban:

  • How to find Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph in Fortnite Battle Royale – Dexerto

How to find Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph in Fortnite Battle Royale Popular Disney character Wreck-It Ralph has officially been spotted in-game, with the animated star appearing at a location on the Fortnite map. Fortnite has become a pop culture phenomenon since its release in September 2017, with dances from the game become regular sights on social media, while some sports stars have been seen using them as celebrations. It seems that Disney would like to cash in on Fortnite’s massive following, as a video was leaked from the in-game files that suggested the movie character would be making a surprise appearance. A Fortnite streamer named MozzzyyTwitch was playing duos when he decided to land at Risky Reels, a drive-in cinema located in the north-east corner of the map. Read More: Snow is coming to Fortnite for the winter season, according to new leaks As he collected armor and weapons from inside a building he had landed on, Mozzzyy left the structure to head out to where the cars sit to watch the movie. Just as he exited the building, the figure of Wreck-It Ralph appeared on the movie screen, walking from left to right while leaving, to the shock of the streamer. The timing of Ralph’s appearance coincides with the release of Ralph Breaks the Internet, the long-awaited sequel to the critically acclaimed Wreck-It Ralph movie which opened in the United States on Thursday, November 21. It’s currently unclear what this video means, but some fans think that Wreck-It Ralph may become part of Fortnite either as a skin or as part of a Limited Time Mode, while some believe that Ralph waving to Risky Reels may actually be included as a scene in the film. This isn’t the first time that Disney has worked with Epic Games to promote a movie, as Marvel villain Thanos made an appearance in Fortnite during a special game mode to promote Avengers: Infinity War. While there are currently no official announcements from Epic Games or Disney about what is going to happen with Wreck-It Ralph and Fortnite, it seems unlikely that fans will have to wait too long to find out.

  • Popular cosplayer Anna Faith opens up about her breast augmentation – Dexerto

Popular cosplayer Anna Faith opens up about her breast augmentation Anna Faith Carlson, TwitterPopular cosplayer Anna Faith Carlson, widely known for her rendition of ‘Frozen’s’ Elsa, opened up about her breast augmentation in an emotional Twitter thread. Carlson kicked off the discussion with a shocking Tweet on February 4, where she admitted that she had undergone a breast augmentation after being bullied for having uneven breasts. According to the cosplayer, her right breast was two sizes bigger than her left, which caused her to halt her modeling career – and also lead to vicious bullying from her fellow classmates in school. But it’s not what you think. When I was 13-14, I started to develop like any other girl. But unlike others, one side was different than the other. When I was fully developed at 18, my right breast was 2 sizes bigger than my left. And it had a huge impact on my life. — Anna Faith (@TheAnnaFaith) February 5, 2019 “I would go to fashion shows/ bikini shows, and the girls backstage would give me hell for not being ‘normal,’” Carlson tweeted. “Even at school, I would be worried to change in the locker room, so I would go into a stall and change away from everyone else.” In fact, the bullying got so out of control that Carlson’s mother signed off on her surgery when she turned 18 – and the results changed her life. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bt94NY6h2mM/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link“I loved them,” Carlson said of the surgery. “Recovery was rough, but worth it. They were the same size. I couldn’t believe it.” However, she experienced complications following her procedure; Carlson stated that her implant dropped a few months after her initial surgery, prompting a rush to the ER. I’m happy with my body, I’m happy with everything about me. I’ve had no other surgeries than this. Some people think I’ve had surgery done to my face, but honestly I just to be really edit/ filter happy back in the day. I was very insecure. — Anna Faith (@TheAnnaFaith) February 5, 2019 While she has had no other complications following her second surgery, Carlson felt that she had to get her story out into the world, and claimed that she was tired of “lying” about her augmentation. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bmw7EZpgfjJ/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_linkCarlon’s thread has since been met with support from across the cosplay community, with many commenters applauding her honesty and bravery for coming forward with her story.

Popular cosplayer Liz Katz banned on Twitch – everything we know Popular female cosplayer Liz Katz was banned on Twitch on October 28, with reasons seemingly unknown. Fans were first alerted to the cosplayer’s suspension on October 28 when a Twitter account named ‘Twitch Partner Bans’ tweeted out that her channel was banned. “Twitch Partner “lizkatzofficial” has been banned!” the tweet read, which was confirmed by a visit to her streaming page, which displayed the classic “That content is unavailable” error message. :x: Twitch Partner “”lizkatzofficial”” (@lizkatzofficial) has been banned! :x:https://t.co/zy41uXpw93#twitch #ban #partner #twitchpartner :man::skin-tone-5: — Twitch Partner Bans (@TwitchBanned) October 28, 2019 Liz herself seemed to be surprised by the ban, as she replied to the tweet with “WTF!?” – An ample indication that Twitch hadn’t informed her of her channel’s suspension. See, NEVER trust any other social other then Twitter when it comes to adult material. It’s the only one left that doesn’t give an eff. — Chuck Baker (@SirChar103) October 28, 2019 Liz is known for a more risque form of cosplay, something for which Twitch has banned users over before. However, she’s adamant she was wearing an ordinary outfit when streaming, which doesn’t break any rules. When not on the platform, her outfits prove to be popular with fans, and she’s debuted many from popular video games such as Final Fantasy, Pokemon, and Borderlands 3 – a game she even had a small voice acting role in. With the cosplayer serving a suspension from Twitch for now, she’s still thriving in popularity on Instagram, where she boasts almost a million followers. Dexerto will keep you updated with any further developments regarding her suspension from the streaming platform.

  • Popeyes sign awkward ‘meme kid’ to NIL deal 10 years after viral video – Dexerto

Popeyes sign awkward ‘meme kid’ to NIL deal 10 years after viral video Vine/Twitter: Dieunerst CollinFried chicken chain Popeyes has signed the viral ‘Popeyes meme kid’ to a Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal, 10 years after the awkward original video of him went viral on Vine. The Popeyes meme kid — real name Dieunerst Collin — went viral on Vine in 2013, but it wasn’t due to his own doing. Instead, many of you will remember the awkward kid that was approached in a Popeyes by a random stranger comparing him to fellow viral sensation Terio, asking Collin to do the trademark “ooh” sound. Of course, Collin at the time had no clue what the man meant, instead just looking at him awkwardly while trying to go about his day — but the internet absolutely loved it, and has done ever since. Now a freshman offensive lineman at D-II Lake Erie College, Collin has secured himself an NIL deal with Popeyes, proving that the internet really does come full circle. The move came after fans demanded an NIL deal for Collin, saying that he deserved it after becoming a State Champion in late 2021. On January 8, Collin posted to his social media channels saying that he “just wanted to talk” with Popeyes — and within days, a deal was done. “I didn’t know the internet was like that,” Collin said on Instagram Live shortly after the fact. “Now I know to never doubt the internet. I appreciate that.” Dieurnest Collin on IG Live: “I didn’t know the internet was like that” pic.twitter.com/ZE1s3O9OFj — Front Office Sports (@FOS) January 11, 2023 It’s wild to see this story come full circle, and for Dieunerst Collin to wait so long for that viral video to become worth it, you can tell how happy he is to have secured the deal. The terms of the deal aren’t clear, but it’s only very recently that college players could agree to NIL deals, with NCAA lifting the rules surrounding them in July 2021.

  • Popeyes fires employee for TikTok of coworker trashing restaurant over not getting paid – Dexerto

Popeyes fires employee for TikTok of coworker trashing restaurant over not getting paid TikTok/itsrah26A Popeyes Chicken employee who filmed her coworker trashing the restaurant for not paying him says she’s been fired after her TikTok video went viral. An employee fed up with a Chicago Popeyes for not paying him for a month went viral after he destroyed the chicken joint in retaliation. Footage of the incident was posted to TikTok late in April showing an unnamed employee dumping raw chicken and fries on the floor, knocking over equipment and even destroying the restaurant’s payment system. The video was first uploaded to TikTok by user ‘itsrah26,’ who also worked at the Popeyes, but it seems like she got in a lot of trouble for posting the clip, because she claims that she got fired for doing so. Popeyes employee fired for uploading TikTok of restaurant trashing In a follow-up video, itsrah said she had no idea her original video would be viral and blow up and Popeyes contacted her district manager in an attempt to get the TikTok taken down. “Because of this video, I got fired. They tried to give me the option of taking the video down or being fired, so I just left,” she explained. While itsrah says she doesn’t care about the job, she thinks that Popeyes was still selling the chicken that had been left on the floor. “I didn’t clean up, I don’t know what they did, but I definitely did see them putting it in a bag, not in the garbage, so I’m guessing that they did sell it,” she added. The former Popeyes employee further said that she doesn’t know if her ex-coworker had been arrested or not, or even if the man ended up finally getting paid, but he did take some from the register before leaving. Regardless, users in the comments have taken itsrah’s side with one even encouraging her to take legal action against the chicken restaurant.

  • ‘Pool streamer’ Taylor Jevaux responds to Twitch streamers “shaming” her content – Dexerto

‘Pool streamer’ Taylor Jevaux responds to Twitch streamers “shaming” her content Instagram: taylorjevaux, TwitchTwitch’s most popular so-called ‘pool streamer’ Taylor Jevaux’s has come under fire from some fellow content creators, and she’s taken the time to respond to claims that her content is causing harassment. As the ongoing debate around Twitch’s ‘hot tub meta’ continues, streamers from all different categories have taken their time to weigh in on the trend. Popular streamer Malena to voiced her concerns over the new genre, promptly sparking a response from Amouranth, the most popular hot tub streamer. As the saga continues to unfold, popular “pool streamer” Taylor Jevaux has responded to other creators hating on her content and accusing it of normalizing harassment. In her YouTube video entitled “Responding to Streamers Shaming my Content,” Jevaux discussed the allegations that other Twitch streamers have made against her. Highlighting that this “is not going to be a bashing stream,” she proceeds to explain that another female content creator felt that “their harassment has gotten worse because of content like [hers.]” “I just want to say that I don’t think there’s any excuse for saying women are the reason for others harassing in chat. Let’s stop and change the narrative of ‘this is women’s fault,’ because it’s truly not something that women are doing. We should make sure that people are held responsible for their own harassment.” She concludes that “as streamers on this platform I think it’s so important to sympathize with one another. Understand that we are all in the same boat, and if the issue is harassment then let’s stop bashing other women and bashing other streamers and get to the core of the problem.” Her final message is this: “I think that if we can come together as opposed to dividing and saying ‘this content’s wrong and this content’s right,’ I think we can work together to make a change.” It seems like Jevaux has little else to say on the subject, especially since she’s netted three separate bans from the platform. The most recent of these, on May 7, lasted three days. Taylor has not confirmed the reason for the most recent ban, and Twitch does not comment on community guideline violations to respect the privacy of users.

Politician makes bank on OnlyFans rival amid investigation for stealing taxpayer money Instagram/camilapolizziA politician under investigation for allegedly stealing taxpayer money is making some serious coin on the OnlyFans rival platform Arsmate. 35-year-old Camila Polizzi, a Chilean politician who ran for mayor of Concepción, Bío Bío Region, had joined Arsmate, an OnlyFans-style website, after demands from fans. Polizzi has been under investigation for her alleged involvement in transferring taxpayer dollars to the En Ti Foundation, but that hasn’t exactly hurt her in the eyes of the public. The former mayoral candidate has frequently posted spicy bikini photos to Instagram and, after content demands by thirsty fans, decided to start posting on a site known as the ‘Chilean OnlyFans’ instead. Politician starts adult content despite fraud charges According to The Daily Star, Polizzi agreed to make adult content and announced her decision in an Instagram story. “From today, I will only upload content on my private Arsmate account,” she said. The account, which functions similarly to OnlyFans, requires users to fork over $24 per month to check out her photos and videos. Police warn TikTok users against Orbeez challenge after 6 people shot with gel pellets Unsplash: Isi ParentePolice have again warned users against attempting the viral TikTok Orbeez challenge after six people were shot with gel pellets in St. Petersburg, Florida. There have been a number of dangerous challenges to go viral on TikTok over the years, such as the fractal wood burning trend and the fire mirror challenge, many of which have prompted experts to warn users against trying them. Earlier in 2022, a new trend called the Orbeez challenge emerged, which saw people launching the absorbent pellets at strangers. Police warned users not to try the trend due to the possibility of serious injury. Now, several incidents in St. Petersburg have reignited concerns about the challenge, after six people were reportedly shot by gel pellets in what is suspected to have been multiple attempts at the Orbeez challenge. One individual, Mike Schuman, was shot in the eye, and told Fox13 that he was hanging outside a bar with friends when a black Nissan pulled up and started firing the pellets. Police reportedly say that this is one of at least six cases they are investigating, though so far no arrests have been made. “It just kept getting foggier like I could see lights through it but by the time I got checked into the hospital, I couldn’t see the other two people in the room,” Schuman said. He went on to add: “That’s not how I planned for my Saturday night to end up, five hours in the ER with a hefty bill to boot.” St. Petersburg Police Department spokesperson Ashley Limardo warned those thinking of trying the trend: “It may seem funny, but it’s not that funny when you could put someone’s life at risk.” In May, two Florida teens were arrested after they injured a woman following their attempt at the Orbeez challenge.

  • IRL Twitch streamer gets shoe covered in puke in epic skateboard fail – Dexerto

IRL Twitch streamer gets shoe covered in puke in epic skateboard fail A Polish livestreamer was left red in the face after trying to show off to friends and viewers, leaving him with his shoe literally covered in sick. IRL (in real life) streaming is popular on Twitch as an escape from all the gaming content which dominates the platform generally, and many streamers have made their careers from broadcasting their daily lives. It’s undoubtedly one of the more peculiar categories though, where streamers will get up to all kinds of weird and wonderful activities in the name of entertaining viewers and hopefully attracting new ones. IRL streamers must also be more careful while streaming out in public, to avoid breaching Twitch’s strict community guidelines, particularly those about privacy. For this Polish streamer though, one of his first few IRL streams could not have gone worse. In a clip that has now racked up tens of thousands of views (a significant number for a streamer with less than 1,000 followers), he suffered an embarrassing fail. It all started innocently, with Pagovsky streaming out in public, as he was demonstrating some of his skateboard tricks, one of which appears to involve loosening his shoe. As he prepared to do the trick, he, for some reason, launched his shoe off his feet – landing it in the most unlucky location possible. Somehow, of the entire street in which shoe could have landed, it plopped squarely into a large splat of human vomit. Leaving his friends and viewers in hysterics, Pagovsky reluctantly retrieved his footwear – though we don’t see whether he actually put it back on (we can only hope not). Leaving his friends and viewers in hysterics, Pagovsky reluctantly retrieved his footwear – though we don’t see whether he actually put it back on (we can only hope not). He did take it back with him though, and showed off the damage on stream the next day. It wasn’t his only skateboarding fail of the day though, as earlier in the day on October 22 he streamed himself taking a nasty fall – without even trying a trick. Judging by the state of the soles, he needed some new skateboarding shoes anyway, so this may have prompted him to get a fresh pair.

Police warn against Kool-Aid Man TikTok trend as teens arrested Kool-Aid/TikTokPolice in the United States have warned against the Kool-Aid Man challenge that has been going viral on TikTok after a number of trends were arrested in New York. Over the last year or so, TikTok has seen its fair share of trends that users have tried to replicate in one way or another. Some of these, like the Blackout challenge and Sleepy Chicken trend, have been pretty dangerous, while others like the Devious Lick challenge have left TikTokers in a whole lot of trouble with their school. There have also been some instances where the authorities have had to step in. That happened with the Kia car theft challenge and is now happening with the Kool-Aid Man challenge, as a number of teens have been arrested. Police arrest New York teens over Kool-Aid Man TikTok challenge The challenge, as the name suggests, tasks TikTokers with replicating a classic commercial for the Kool-Aid brand as the Kool-Aid Man breaks through fences around people’s homes. A number of videos have popped up around the trend, but a group of six teenagers – aged from 12 to 18 – were ticketed for “criminal mischief” on Long Island due to their involvement in the trend, which happened in the early hours of the morning on February 20. “This is a really bad decision, they shouldn’t be influenced by social media or their friends. It might seem fun and it might be a prank, but it’s criminal and they will be held accountable,” Suffolk County Chief of Patrol Gerard Hardy told NBC New York. According to Hardy, the teens were released to their parents after being ticketed, but the case remains open, and the six males could face charges over it. It remains to be seen if anything further will happen and if more tikTokers are punished for their involvement.

Police warn shoppers about Starbucks Stanley cup internet “scams” Instagram: tumblershop22After the Starbucks Winter Pink Stanley cup flew off the shelves, police are now issuing a warning of re-sale and online scammers. Stanley fans entered the new year with two new Quencher 40-ounce tumbler releases — one of which was the Starbucks Winter Pink Stanley. Though Starbucks struggled to keep their exclusive Stanley cup on the shelves, as locations were given a limited amount, many people have seen it being sold online by re-sellers. However, police have issued a warning to Stanley fanatics, saying they should be aware of online scammers selling fake Stanleys for a cheaper price. Police warm Stanley buyers of fraudulent social media ads The Starbucks Winter Pink Stanley sold in stores for $49.95. However, many people have re-sold their Starbucks Stanley on sites like eBay. Not only that but there are people trying to profit from the popularity of the exclusive Starbucks Stanley, taking to the internet to create fake websites full of faux Stanleys. These particular sites are selling their fraudulent Stanley cup for a cheaper price, making buyers believe that there are still some available despite Starbucks locations having sold out almost immediately. To follow up on the scam, the Morton Grove Police Department in Chicago issued a warning on Facebook saying, “Beware of tricky websites using the brand’s popularity. Shady websites pretending to offer discounts on Stanley cups have been found to be scamming shoppers.” The post continued, “If you purchase a cup through a shady website, your personal information may be compromised and your money… gone.” The police department then gave steps on how to avoid such a scam, saying that shoppers should especially watch out for social media ads. Police troll TikTok biker after arresting him for dangerous stunts Durham ConstabularyA TikToker whose account consisted of dangerous motorbike stunts has been thanked by police for supplying them with all the evidence needed for his arrest. In today’s age of technology, it’s important to be aware of your ‘digital footprint’ and what you leave behind on the internet for others to see. A man who regularly posted motorbike stunts on TikTok has just discovered the importance of one’s digital footprint after his account was used as evidence for his arrest. 23-year-old Kane Tilney was arrested by police in February on approximately 20 offenses, including dangerous driving, failing to wear a helmet, and driving without a license — and now the police have hilariously thanked him for the evidence on his TikTok. Tilney regularly posted to his TikTok account, showing the young man recklessly hurling through Darlington on his motorbike. Clips show Tilney driving on the wrong side of the road, on pavement, and without a helmet. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Durham Police thanked Tilney for supplying the videos via TikTok; “A nuisance biker has been brought to justice – after he uploaded videos of his offending to social media. Kane Tilney helpfully kept his TikTok account updated with videos of himself riding dangerously in Darlington, making our job very easy indeed…” With a “treasure trove” of evidence against him, Tiliney pleaded guilty to the charges on November 10. He was sentenced to 12 months in prison, disqualified from driving for two years, and must complete 200 hours of unpaid work. Inspector Matt Plumb from the Darlington Neighbourhood Police Team said in a statement, “Tilney is a prolific offender who has plagued the streets of Darlington with his dangerous and illegal riding. “By filming himself committing these offenses and uploading them to TikTok, he clearly thought he was above the law and could do what he liked — but it ultimately led to his downfall.” Be sure to check out all the latest entertainment news on our page here.

  • Police warn against “illegal” Heartbeat challenge as old TikTok trend returns – Dexerto

Police warn against “illegal” Heartbeat challenge as old TikTok trend returns TikTokTikTokers have been warned against doing the ‘Heartbeat Challenge’ of kicking people’s doors to the tune of a Kesha song as police say it could land them in hot water as it is “illegal.” While it may have started out life as a platform for artists to share songs, dance routines, and art pieces, TikTok has become home to a wide range of content that spans pretty much every corner of the internet. Naturally, there are plenty of videos that cause people to raise their eyebrows at whether or not they not only break TikTok’s rules, but could also land the users in trouble as well. There have been a few examples of these recently, especially with the Kool-Aid man challenge, but an older challenge has been resurfacing in the UK. TikTok Heartbeat challenge makes return in UK after police warn against it That’s right, the Heartbeat challenge – which sees TikTokers kicking doors to the tune of Kesha’s 2012 song Die Young – has started to have a bit of a resurgence in the UK. It was originally started back in 2021, but a recent video uploaded by Niks_1805 showed two young males making a video of themselves kicking a door in time with the song. They were caught on the TikToker’s doorbell camera as they scurried away, laughing at what they’d done. Naturally, some users were pretty shocked by it, and couldn’t believe that the 2021 trend had made a return. While the challenge isn’t as dangerous as others, it is vandalism and police have previously wanted that TikTokers could get in trouble as videos will be investigated. “It’s not just a bit of fun – it is frightening, anti-social and, in some cases, illegal,” PCSO Sarah Rex from Herefordshire Police told the Liverpool Echo. As it stands, the trend hasn’t quite made a sweeping return, but there are a few instances of it happening.

Some fans were also in attendance at the party which appeared to have thousands of people show up, perhaps causing the police to intervene. It is unclear exactly what prompted such a heavy handed police response, but in addition to vehicles, helicopter units were also deployed. • Police step in after angry man confronts streamer for filming in Japan – Dexerto

Police step in after angry man confronts streamer for filming in Japan Twitch/robcdeeIRL Twitch streamer ‘robcdee’ was confronted by a livid bystander while riding a bike through the streets of Tokyo and filming his daily activities. During an October 2 broadcast, the popular Australian streamer, who has been documenting his life in Japan for two years, was confronted by man who claimed it was “illegal” to be filming in the country. “Don’t put the f**king camera on my face!” the man shouted as Rob and a friend rode past. “Did you know I could call the cops on you for shooting that f**king video?” While the mere mention of calling the police may be a huge red flag for some, Rob wasn’t about to have any of the man’s threats and even seemed to welcome the idea. “You want to call the cops? Let’s do it!” the eager streamer replied. “Are you sure you want to do that?” the man, who was still off-screen asked. “This is f**king illegal in Japan! You can’t shoot no video without [someone’s] permission.” Rob chimed in that filming outside was perfectly fine, which just irritated the man even more who continued to shout profanity. “What do you mean f**king [filming] outside is okay? It’s not okay!” the upset man continued. Eventually, the loud confrontation resulted in both men agreeing to go and speak with the police to settle the dispute once and for all. From here, the group went down to talk to law enforcement, and everyone started conversing in Japanese with English no longer being spoken. After a long, drawn-out discussion, eventually, Rob was able to go and explained what the verdict was. “So basically, he’s wrong. What we’re doing isn’t illegal. What we’re doing is fine,” Rob said. “He was saying what we were doing outside is illegal, which is not true, obviously, because we went to the cops.” According to Rob, the police said it’s better to not film in that area because people are sensitive about cameras. “Obviously, because they’re scamming, right?” he laughed. That said, as long as Rob wasn’t focusing the camera on the man and deliberately filming without his permission, he was in the right. If you ever decide to visit Tokyo, this is something important to keep in mind – especially if you plan to videotape your adventures in one of the world’s most popular cities.

TikTokers Josh_and_Archie are going viral for all the wrong reasons after they tried to get in on the “spy balloon” controversy sweeping the world. After numerous spy balloons were spotted and shot down over the United States, the globe has been waiting for more information, especially as tensions between the two countries escalate. In a TikTok video that has amassed over half-a-million views, Josh Pieters and Archie Manners got their own balloon to fly over the Chinese embassy, but the police weren’t too happy with the “offensive” prank. Pranksters accused of starting “World War 3” with spy balloon prank According to the duo, they felt if China was allowed to use a spy balloon then turnabout is fair play and decided to take matters of international espionage into their own hands. After buying weather balloons, helium, and a successful test run, the two headed to the embassy where they unleashed their inflatable spy device only for the cops to show up. (click here if TikTok fails to load) “People inside may be offended by this,” an officer said. “Try and deflate it and take it with you.” Luckily, there weren’t any further issues, but the two had some explaining to do and did so in their own unique comedic way. “We thought that considering the Chinese are such fans of these balloons that they would have liked it,” Pieters explained. “A lot of people say we could be the start of World War III, but we wouldn’t want to do that. “It was just a gathering mission. The intelligence could be quite important.” Although the friends avoided any sort of legal issue this time, it doesn’t seem like the two will be trying to spy on other countries again in the near future.

Police say TikTok clips of thieves stealing packages could “violate their private lives” UNSPLASH: DAN DENNISPolice responding to the recent trend of “porch pirates” have advised people that posting images of alleged thieves on social media could be a violation of privacy rights. “Porch Pirates” have become more common recently after a wave of thefts in 2023 that saw many criminals blatantly steal delivery packages from the fronts of people’s homes. Since then, police have been offering more guidance on how to avoid these thieves. However, the comments of one police department in Canada went viral when a local police officer warned victims not to post images of alleged thieves on social media, particularly TikTok. The comments were met with mixed reactions, with some responses online saying it wasn’t fair to treat thieves in that manner. Police slammed online over TikTok privacy comments According to CTV News, Officer Lt. Benoit Richard advised Canadians living in Quebec that “You cannot post the images yourself because you have to remember, in Canada, we have a presumption of innocence and posting that picture could be a violation of private life.” While the comments were clearly meant in good faith, that didn’t stop several social media users from criticizing the defense of alleged thieves. “Don’t forget to also invite them in for some tea,” one reply sarcastically read. “You don’t want to have a violation towards their wellbeing. It’s cold out there.” Thieves operating like this have been on the rise since the trend of capturing them via security cameras went viral in 2023. Just a few days ago, a particularly brazen thief sat on someone else’s porch while opening their packages. • Police Officer Who Was Off Sick Made Money Streaming Fortnite Battle Royale In Racy Outfits – Dexerto

Police Officer Who Was Off Sick Made Money Streaming Fortnite Battle Royale In Racy Outfits A police officer who was off on sick leave spent her time off wisely – playing and streaming Fortnite Battle Royale in ‘racy’ outfits, and making some cash. ‘The Pineapple Queen’, real name Sergeant Leanne Carr, is apparently an avid gamer, and has become a popular live streamer, getting her name from the rather revealing pineapple bikini she wears on broadcast. Having been signed off from her police day job in Lincolnshire, UK, reportedly to recover from stress following an ‘internal misconduct inquiry’, which has now been resolved. Carr returned to full time work in January after her sick leave, but received criticism from some UK tabloid newspapers after posting topless photos will abroad during her time off. As reported by LADBible, one of Carr’s superiors gave this statement about her livestreams, which have begun to attract increased attention. So The Pineapple Queen is perfectly within her rights to stream and continue her social media presence and ‘allowed to have a private life’. Fortnite is of course the smash game taking over the world of streaming, so there is no better game for Carr to grow her Twitch Channel. Her social media accounts are fine by the police force, provided there are no rules broken. Speaking to The Sun, Detective Supt Suzanne Davies said: “If anything is included on those accounts that breaches the high standards a police officer should maintain at all times we will investigate and act accordingly to make sure that is dealt with appropriately.” You can find the Pineapple Queen on her Twitch Channel, or follow her on Twitter, where she promotes her channel and updates her 3,000+ followers.

Police issue warning over dangerous TikTok “Orbeez Challenge” trend TikTok / PixabayThe “Orbeez Challenge” is the latest TikTok trend that’s seeped over into real life, and police have issued a warning after two teenagers were arrested. It seems as though there’s a new trend every week on the popular social media app for users to get involved in, whether that’s the Reading Rainbow filter or the Material Girl song. The latest one isn’t so lighthearted though and actually poses a real danger as it blurs the line between the digital world and real life. Dubbed the “Orbeez Challenge”, it involves shooting the water-filled beads at random strangers. While this may sound harmless, it isn’t, and police are urging users not to take part for their own safety. (Click here if the following TikTok doesn’t load) https://www.tiktok.com/@bailey__kirk/video/7072936282682412331 Latest Orbeez Challenge TikTok trend is dangerous Orbeez soared in popularity in 2020, largely due to TikTok. Users would post videos of them playing with the water-filled beads, with one even destroying his town’s sewer system with them. Fast forward to 2022 and they’re back, but not quite as you’d expect. People are now shooting them at unsuspecting bystanders using airsoft guns – something which is not only dangerous for the victim but for the prankster themselves. Read More: TikToker’s megaphone prank ends in disaster – “Once again we find ourselves dealing with a dangerous trend on social media that has influenced our young people to make dangerous choices that can have lifetime consequences,” Chief of Police Issa Shahin said in a statement after a teenager was arrested over the challenge in Dearborn, Michigan. “The Dearborn Police Department will have a zero-tolerance approach to activities such as this that pose danger to the public.” Four more teenagers were arrested and charged with aggravated assault in Yuma, Arizona on March 20 after they injured a pedestrian with a bead in a drive-by Orbeez shooting. “While Orbeez are soft to the touch, they can lead to injury and even break the skin when shot from an air-powered gun,” Yuma police said. “We are asking parents to discuss the dangers of this challenge with their kids.” Not only does shooting them carry the risk of permanently injuring someone, but using a fake gun could spell fatal trouble for its wielder if mistaken for the real thing. As with other TikTok trends, police are hoping it blows over within the coming days, replaced with something less dangerous and that can be done at home.

Police investigating “virtual rape” after girl ‘attacked’ in metaverse Pexels.com: cottonbro studioBritish police are investigating what’s being called a “virtual rape” after a 16-year-old girl was ‘attacked’ by several men in a virtual reality space. The 16-year-old victim wasn’t physically harmed in the attack, which took place in VR — but is reportedly mentally shaken after experiencing the incident. The child was wearing a headset during the confrontation, during which her avatar was “attacked” by several men in a virtual “room,” as per reports from The Standard. While she wasn’t physically injured, police say that the victim experienced trauma similar to that of people who have been sexually assaulted. “Virtual rape” investigated by police after 16-year-old ‘attacked’ in VR “This child experienced psychological trauma similar to that of someone who has been physically raped,” a senior officer said in a statement to the Daily Mail. “There is an emotional and psychological impact on the victim that is longer term than any physical injuries. It poses a number of challenges for law enforcement given current legislation is not set up for this.” While most details about the case are being kept under wraps to protect the underage victim, this marks the very first time a ‘virtual sexual offense’ is being investigated by UK police. A spokesperson from Meta gave a statement about the situation, saying to the Mail, “[This] kind of behavior described has no place on our platform, which is why for all users we have an automatic protection called personal boundary, which keeps people you don’t know a few feet away from you.” Ian Critchley, the National Police Chiefs’ Council’s Child Protection and Abuse Investigation Lead, gave a warning about the Metaverse to the Mail, saying it “creates a gateway for predators to commit horrific crimes against children.” He added, “As such, our policing approach must continually evolve to enable us to relentlessly pursue predators and safeguard victims across all online spaces.”

  • Police condemn TikTok’s car theft trends as children aged 10+ steal vehicles – Dexerto

Police condemn TikTok’s car theft trends as children aged 10+ steal vehicles Unsplash: Olivier BergeronPolice have reported that children as young as ten have been breaking into vehicles as a result of viral TikTok trends which encourage people to steal cars, including the viral Kia Boys trend. Short-form video platform TikTok has seen a number of dangerous or illegal trends go viral over the years, with things like the ‘Devious Lick’ challenge generating a huge amount of controversy online. The Kia Boys trend is one that has been prompting backlash throughout 2022, as thieves target certain models of 2010-2021 Hyundai and Kia cars which use a mechanical key, not a key fob and push-button, to start. A number of videos about the trend have gone viral on TikTok, including from people who have been a victim of the viral trend showing the aftermath. It has been reported that children as young as ten are participating in the challenge, leading to an influx of concern from parents and authorities. Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart told CNBC: “The viral nature of how this has taken off on social media — it’s accelerated this like we’ve never seen. [The perpetrators are] doing it in 20 to 30 seconds. It literally is as old-fashioned as you can imagine.” He went on to add that the thieves are mostly young teens, saying: “We had an 11-year-old who was one of our most prolific stealers … the notion that they can drive is a fantasy.” On October 1, Port News reported that children as young as 10 years old have been leading police in Australia on chases after stealing cars and filming them for TikTok as part of a similar car theft trend that’s gaining traction on the platform, with people breaking into homes to steal car keys. District Commander Detective Superintendent Shane Cribb of the Mid North Coast Police said: “These are potentially-lethal choices made by children. These children do not have the training, the skills, or the experience to be in charge of a motor vehicle. “The risk these children pose to all road users is incalculable: in the hands of these children, a motor vehicle becomes a potential weapon.” TikTok’s community guidelines state: “We do not permit users to share content depicting, promoting, normalizing or glorifying dangerous acts that may lead to serious injury or death.” They also specify that users should not post, upload, stream, or share “Content that depicts dangerous driving behavior,” among a number of other things.

Police crash Andrew Tate livestream to make sure he hasn’t fled the country Rumble: Andrew TateDuring a Rumble livestream, Romanian police arrived unexpectedly to the home of Andrew and Tristan Tate, to ensure the pair were not making attempts to flee the country, with their trial still pending. The Tate brothers were initially arrested by anti-organized crime forces in Romania back in December 2022. They have since been released from police custody and house arrest, but are not permitted to leave the country. Andrew made public his wishes to visit his mother in UK, claiming she had fallen ill, and wanted to be with her over the Christmas period. However, Romanian officials denied the request to travel to the United Kingdom. Police arrive during Andrew Tate stream While the brothers were streaming on Rumble, they noticed via CCTV that police vehicles at arrived at their residence. As Tristan went to speak with the police, Andrew seemed unconcerned, singing a Christmas jingle but changing the lyrics: “Dashing through the snow, they put me back into jail. I’ve done nothing wrong, that’s the truth. I’ll sit with Tristan, staring at the wall. I don’t know why the police are here but we’ll find out after all.” When Tristan returned, Andrew enquired what the visit from authorities was for, and asked if he should ‘get his jail bag.’ Tristan explained that police had “heard a rumor” that he had fled the country. Clearly angered, Tristan claimed it was a “setup”, and that authorities had hoped he would attempt to flee after denying the request to visit their mother. For now, the brothers remain in Romania, and although they are free to move within the country as they please, they cannot leave the nation itself. Their trial, on charges of human trafficking and rape, is still looming, although is not expected for some time still, potentially not until 2025.

  • Police called to Adam Saleh’s home due to possible ‘stalker’ fans – Dexerto

Police called to Adam Saleh’s home due to possible ‘stalker’ fans Popular YouTuber Adam Saleh revealed in a recent vlog that police were called to his home after a few suspicious cars were seen making the rounds in his neighborhood. Police told Saleh that a neighbor had reported the suspicious vehicles driving around his neighborhood, and that the cars could have a possible connection to Saleh’s celebrity status. He admitted that both fans and haters alike will approach his house on occasion, and asked that they please desist for the sake of his family and their privacy. “It’s not even funny, man,” he said. “Stop that shit. …please, with all due respect, do not come to my house. [The house] is mainly for my family to live, and I don’t want to put them through that.” Saleh admitted that he was initially nervous about the police’s presence in his home, stating that he has had bad experiences with law enforcement in the past. While police asked for him by name and inquired about his profession, Saleh’s account doesn’t quite clarify if the drivers in question or the reporting neighbor had mentioned his YouTube fame in relation to the incident. Saleh isn’t the only YouTuber to have his address made public to overly enthusiastic fans, either. Current YouTube king Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg has likewise addressed the issue, citing entire classes of schoolchildren and parents as “screaming” outside of his home in previous years. “Just because you found my address doesn’t mean you found an invitation for you to come over,” he said of the visitors. Saleh’s vlog marks another case in the history of many YouTubers who have confronted invasions of their personal privacy by fans.

Police chase becomes real-life GTA 6 as driver opens fire at cops Instagram/izacmiamiA wild police chase turned into a scene like something straight from a Grand Theft Auto game, as the crash incident turned more dangerous when firearms began ringing out. GTA 6 is finally set to release in 2025 and while it will certainly bring all sorts of wild police chases and shootouts, real life has its share of moments that seemed ripped from games or movies. As reported by Outkick, a chase in Dayton, Ohio turned into a brutal scene earlier this week when bullets started flying the same time as sirens were blaring. According to NBC, the chase began when officers received a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a truck. The suspect continued to drive and even pointed a gun at officers from his vehicle’s window. Officers shot at in GTA-esque police chase Trotwood Police Chief Erik Wilson explained that the driver began swerving through incoming traffic as multiple agencies joined in the chase. “He began heading back westbound on U.S. 35, at which time he began firing at officers from his moving vehicle,” the chief said. Eventually, the suspect ended up crashing into a Trotwood officer and deputy’s cars, with law enforcement firing multiple shots at the truck. Footage of the crash was posted to Instagram and reuploaded to X/Twitter where gunshots could be heard following the collision. The suspect, who had been shot, was taken to a local hospital. Police say he is expected to survive. It was also revealed that the woman who had been hit originally was related to the suspect, but the two are not married. This is hardly the first time a crime scene sparked GTA comparisons. Last year, a gas station shootout went viral as viewers began comparing it to GTA and John Wick 4.

  • Police called on TikTok parents for wrapping baby in saran wrap – Dexerto

Police called on TikTok parents for wrapping baby in saran wrap TikTok: @savannahglembin, @auntkaren0A couple went viral on TikTok for all the wrong reasons after they wrapped their toddler son in saran wrap and repeatedly toppled him, causing him to fall on the bed. The backlash from this led to an alleged intervention from the Police and child protective services. Content creator Savannah Glembin (@savannahglembin) shared a video on TikTok in which Savannah and her husband wrapped their toddler in saran wrap from his neck to his knees. The video has since been deleted after a wave of backlash concerning putting the child in potential danger with such an act. Some of the original video footage can be seen in @Auntkaren0‘s video response where she says “this feels like abuse.” In the clip, Savannah’s husband can be seen tipping over their son who seems to be in distress. This allegedly resulted in Police and child protective services getting involved as reported by Savannah herself in a follow-up TikTok. Policed called over possibly dangerous TikTok Soon after deleting her TikTok Savannah uploaded a new video where she explained that her son, Gunner, has been taken away by CPS until they evaluate if the child is safe within the household. Day after that Savannah actually uploaded another TikTok with the caption “home where he belongs” showing that Gunner is back in the household, presumably after CPS cleared the family of any wrongdoing. Savannah’s video explaining the situation was met with further backlash, as many commenters accused her of lying about Gunner smiling and having fun in the saran wrap video. “That child was red in the face. How can both adults be so ruthless? That plastic was so tight around him,” said one. “I’m confused because you say he was smiling and happy but he looks like he’s been crying and is exhausted?” another added. With child protective services clearing Savannah and her husband of any wrongdoing, the situation seems to be resolved, but we will be sure to update the story as it unfolds. • Police called on TikToker for viral ‘make anything a bag trend’ – Dexerto

Police called on TikToker for viral ‘make anything a bag trend’ TikTok: afropuffjadaTikToker Jada Holmes has gone viral for her ‘make anything a bag’ trend and was recently approached by police for trying to turn an ATM machine into a handbag. TikToker Jada Holmes is notorious for transforming just about anything into a handbag. She’s altered televisions, blowup couches, gasoline cans, and more to look like a bag for the ‘make anything a bag’ trend, which she started herself. Though many of her posts have gone viral, as she has 623.9K TikTok followers, her most recent stunt has gained even more views, as she had the police called on her while outside a storefront. Jada Holmes’ TikTok fans think she took her ‘make anything a bag’ trend too far Holmes is as creative as they come, as she’s gone viral for making ‘anything’ into a handbag. Not only does she come up with the ideas herself, but she also designs by hand the many objects she turns into a bag. Her designs are as eccentric as the idea itself, as she’s even made a handbag out of a toilet, Pac-Man game machine, and glass table. Though most of her designs are legal, Holmes’ most recent creation resulted in the police being called, as she attempted to use a store’s ATM machine as a purse. As Holmes attached a ruffled strap to the ATM machine, she stood in front of her friend’s camera posing. Holmes later captioned her TikTok video doing so, saying, “About to get rich this year, I can feel it in my gut.” In another video posted to Holmes’ TikTok, she was surrounded by police officers, as it’s illegal to steal or open an ATM machine — which she had done. Commenters took to her video to say that the ATM stunt was taking it too far, saying, “Y’all may have been doing too much.” Another agreed, saying, “Enough, I’ve had enough. This is her sign to stop.” Others commented on the video thinking the incident was comical, saying, “Why would you try to do that? Lmao,” while another asked for more details, saying, “Storytime please lol.” Holmes hasn’t commented further on if she was ticketed by the police or not. She also hasn’t uploaded any new custom handbags since the incident, but some fans of hers are hopeful she’ll continue her craft, saying, “Y’all saying she needs to learn. Learn to do something that makes you happy. She’s making creative things and making money. May God bless y’all.”

  • Police called after Domino’s driver’s car gets stolen while handing over pizza – Dexerto

Police called after Domino’s driver’s car gets stolen while handing over pizza TIKTOK: kk_fellowsA Domino’s Pizza customer went viral on TikTok after her delivery driver’s car was stolen while they were literally handing over the food. Content creator Kristen Fellows (kk_fellows) shared a storytime video on TikTok, explaining how her most recent delivery order didn’t go as planned. In the clip, she said her partner Ben went outside to meet the delivery driver, who left her car to deliver the pizza. The driver locked the doors and took the car key with her, because the vehicle had a push-to-start button. Domino’s Pizza driver’s car gets stolen However, as the Domino’s driver handed Ben the pizza, a stranger in a ski mask came “out of nowhere,” got in the car, slammed the door shut, and drove off. Kristen said she heard “screeches” when this happened, and went outside to help. The TikToker and her partner called the police, because the delivery driver’s phone was still inside the stolen car. The driver logged into Instagram using one of their phones, and was able to get ahold of a co-worker and manager. The manager tried to track the stolen car using the Domino’s Pizza Tracker, although it’s unclear from the video if it was effective. Kristen said Baltimore Police arrived, and even sent out a helicopter to try to track the car. The TikToker didn’t specify whether the stolen vehicle was recovered. In the comments, users commended the Domino’s manager for using the pizza tracker. “Feel so bad for the driver – and I feel like using the pizza tracker to look for the car is kind of incredible!” one user wrote. “I deliver for Domino’s and this is my biggest fear! But that tracker is top notch!” another added. Others didn’t think the car thief could have gotten far in a push-start car without the key fob. “Huh. the push to start I had as a rental would shut off if the key went 20 ft away” one commented. “If it’s push to start and the driver had the fob the car didn’t go far,” another said. This is just the latest delivery driver video to go viral on TikTok after a Domino’s driver sparked backlash for demanding a tip from their customer.

  • Police arrest dad for piercing son’s ear in viral TikTok video – Dexerto

Police arrest dad for piercing son’s ear in viral TikTok video TIKTOK: iamnugget770A viral TikTok captured the moment an Arkansas father got arrested at his home for piercing his son’s ear and violating ‘body art law.’ It all started when a Springdale High School resource officer reported a student telling classmates his drunk dad “put him in a chokehold and shoved the piercing in his ear,” police said in a statement. The officer then contacted the Tontitown Police Department in regards to making a welfare check. Officers visited the family home, and while Jeremy Sherland admitted to piercing his son’s left ear, he refused to let them speak to the boy to answer questions. This led the police to return with an arrest warrant. In a viral TikTok posted by Jeremy’s son, four cops were seen inside the Sherland family’s home, pinning the father against the wall and putting handcuffs on him. “Why are you doing this?” the boy asked, while Jeremy’s wife demanded police give an explanation for the sudden arrest. Dad arrested for piercing son’s ear An officer explained that he’s being arrested for performing “body art without a license,” to which the baffled father let out an exaggerated laugh. Jeremy appeared to momentarily try to resist, before police managed to escort him out of the door, with his wife and son following. “Piercing is done here without a license,” the woman shouted. She continued: “It takes three cops, four cops, coming into my house with no permission. No permission and busted in my front door. This is the boy right here who got a pierced ear by his dad. These cops busted in my front door.” “I wanted my ears pierced,” the boy is heard yelling at officers, as they placed his dad in the patrol car. Arkansas law states it is forbidden to “perform body art on a person under 16 years of age, regardless of parental consent”, while it is also illegal “to perform body art in any unlicensed facility”. Violation of that law is a Class D felony. Jeremy was also charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, refusing to submit to arrest, and obstructing governmental operations. According to online records, he was released on a $1,500 bond after spending two nights in the Washington County jail.

  • Pokimane’s voice changer isn’t fooling anyone – Dexerto

Pokimane’s voice changer isn’t fooling anyone PokimanePokimane tricked a few Valorant players into thinking she was just another random, but one fan immediately recognized her. Pokimane, a Twitch streaming phenom who recently revealed to fans that everyone had been pronouncing her name wrong the whole time, has been enjoying getting stuck into playing some Valorant. However, playing a heavily team-based game can be tough for mega-popular streamers as they become bombarded by stream snipers and well-meaning fans who try to get the attention of their favorite streamer rather than helping their team win the game. So, Pokimane had an idea to bypass all those problems and create funny moments for her stream; how can all these things happen if she uses a voice changer and no one knows that Pokimane is on their team? Pokimane’s voice changer simply wasn’t good enough for Valorant fans Pokimane applied the voice changer, which dropped the tone of her voice to sound much deeper, and then queued into some Valorant games. But people weren’t so easily fooled: “Wait, Reyna, is it Pokimane?“ Pokimane smirked and sighed, realizing she might’ve been caught, shaking her character’s head in response: “Whatever makes you happy, man,” she tried to shrug off the question. Despite this, the teammate was now certain it was her, as they began exclaiming: “Yo, that’s crazy, I’m definitely your number one fan.” Pokimane knew that the ruse was up, laughing at being exposed, which the voice changer turned into a deep-toned laugh that her chat found hilarious. Realizing that he was now playing with the megastar Twitch icon, the fan admitted, “I’m nervous now,” though she reassured him: “Don’t be.” Pokimane isn’t the first streamer to use a voice changer to create some funny stream moments, as die-hard Twitch fans will remember the moment when CourageJD used a voice changer to hilariously imitate Ninja.

  • Police are hunting serial “porch pooper” as man repeatedly dumps on same house – Dexerto

Police are hunting serial “porch pooper” as man repeatedly dumps on same house Reddit: GentlemanUrbanFarmerPolice are on the hunt for a serial “porch pooper” who has repeatedly targeted the same house while on a defecation spree. The porch pooper’s victim, a homeowner who goes by ‘GentlemanUrbanFarmer‘ on Reddit, enlisted the help of Louisville Metro Police after being targeted multiple times. The situation began on August 27 when GentlemanUrbanFarmer discovered what he believed to be cat feces on his front porch. However, after cleaning the mess and checking his security cameras, he discovered that the culprit was very much human. “Not only did he defecate, but he also urinated on our welcome mat,” GentlemanUrbanFarmer told Wave3. And this wouldn’t be the porch pooper’s last attack. With “no idea” why the porch pooper had chosen his house for the unusual attack, GentlemanUrbanFarmer would go on to be targeted three times in total. “We’re good neighbors. We keep to ourselves, we behave ourselves. I can’t imagine anyone would want to do this kind of retribution,” GentlemanUrbanFarmer said. “I’m relieved that he’s not violent or he’s not trying to force entry. He’s just doing his deed, but it’s very disconcerting and disturbing.” Police are now urging anyone with information on the porch pooper to contact them, releasing footage of the assailant that shows a young man in a red University of Louisville t-shirt, shorts, and only socks. “LMPD is taking this seriously and consider[s] it a case of ‘harassment without physical contact’ so kudos to them for that,” GentlemanUrbanFarmer wrote on Reddit, after detailing how the porch pooper had returned and taken “30 seconds to do his deed”. In the comment section, the homeowner shared he believed the porch pooper to have an “altered mental status somehow” based on his mannerisms: “I do feel bad for him, but it’s disgusting and has to stop.” GentlemanUrbanFarmer also revealed he had attempted to stay awake and confront the pooper using his security camera’s speaker, however, “he skedaddles faster than I can react to the notification”.

  • Pokimane’s Myna Snacks controversy explained: Midnight Mini Cookie drama timeline – Dexerto

Pokimane’s Myna Snacks controversy explained: Midnight Mini Cookie drama timeline Myna SnacksStreaming sensation Pokimane has been at the center of controversy after the launch of her new company Myna Snacks and the Midnight Cookies product. Imane “Pokimane” Anys was the most recent content creator to release their own product. Following in the steps of Logan Paul and KSI with PRIME and MrBeast with Feastables, the streamer just announced the creation of snack company Myna Snacks, alongside the reveal of their first product the Midnight Mini Cookie. However, the launch hasn’t been without its controversy, with some on the internet alleging that the Midnight Mini Cookies bear a striking resemblance to a product briefly on Costco’s shelves earlier this year. From the announcement itself to the latest responses from those involved, here’s the full explainer to get you up to speed. Pokimane Announces Myna Snacks Pokimane first teased on Twitter she was excited about the launch of an upcoming product on November 9, 2023. Fast forward a week and the announcement of Myna Snacks made a splash across social media. The snack company is focused on making healthier snack alternatives, with its first product being the Midnight Mini Cookies. According to a statement on the Myna Snacks website, the streamer said, “Most snacks were filled with things I couldn’t feel good about. So we created Myna.” The Midnight Mini cookies are up for purchase right now and are available in a 4, 8, or 12-pack. These boxes cost $28, $56, and $84 each respectively, equating to about $7 per bag. Backlash to Myna Snacks Midnight Mini Cookies Shortly after the announcement of Myna Snacks Midnight Mini Cookies, controversy began to form around the product’s origins. Twitter users began to question where Myna’s newest product had come from, comparing it to another product that was sold by Costco earlier this year. One Twitter user named Atelisi alleged that Myna Snacks had lied about who had created the product, pointing out similarities between Midnight Mini Cookies and a product made by Creations Foods, a company also known for creating alternative snack options. Atelisi not only compared the products visually but also took into account their nutritional information and ingredients, arguing that the two products are almost identical. They then claimed that Myna’s new product was a “cash grab attempt” where “no work into the cookies themselves was put into it, and the claim of ‘creating’ the cookie is (allegedly) a lie.” Myna Snacks responds to backlash Hours after the claims began gaining traction online, a Myna spokesperson reached out to Dexerto to make a statement, claiming “Our product formulation is unique to Myna and exclusive to us. “We can confirm the Midnight Mini Cookies were in development for two years. This process included many rounds of testing and ingredient changes.” Beyond the sourcing of the ingredients, there is one key difference between Midnight Mini Cookies and the Creation Foods product, which is the inclusion of mushroom powder, which provides Vitamin D. Pokimane’s response to Midnight Mini Cookie drama Pokimane’s snack company has teased that a more in-depth reveal in the future may help clear the air around the early controversy. Pokimane has also spoken out in response to the backlash, attempting to set the record straight. “The batch of Myna cookies we’re currently shipping were made 3 weeks ago. They are not a drop-shipped product, and we own our formula. “The cookies they are being compared to were also made by our manufacturer, Creation Foods, which specializes in healthy food. The compared cookies had one test batch sold before they were retired. Months later we partnered with Creation Foods and fell in love with the flavor profile of the midnight cookie. “We then decided to work together to refine and improve the formula, and we’re really happy with the final product. While the ingredients list may look similar, they are entirely different in terms of ingredient quality, quantity/ ratios, sourcing, the size/ texture of the cookie, and of course the added vitamin D. Refining formulas is a very common practice in the food industry + 70-80% of the foods you see in grocery stores are white labeled.” Myna Snacks’ Midnight Mini Cookies are available for purchase as of the time of writing, with Pokimane explaining that the company is still working on more new products at the moment, meaning this is just the first of many to be released.

  • Pokimane’s snack company responds to claims they drop-shipped another brand – Dexerto

Pokimane’s snack company responds to claims they drop-shipped another brand Myna SnacksPokimane’s new snack company, Myna Snacks, has responded to claims that their Midnight Mini Cookies are a copy of another product previously sold at Costco. Pokimane launched her new health-conscious snack company, Myna Snacks, together with Darcey Macken, a food industry veteran, on November 13. She now joins the likes of popular influencers, including KSI, Logan Paul, MrBeast, and others who have launched their own unique products in recent years. “After years of research and development, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of a snack company consumers can trust for amazing taste and health benefits, removing what I call the ‘mental calories’ behind fueling our bodies,” Darcey Macken, Co-Founder and CEO of Myna Snacks stated. “We’re making the most craveable, poppable, feel-good snacks for everyone.” However, almost immediately after the announcement of Myna Snacks’ first product, Midnight Mini Cookies, the company faced backlash after fans noticed similarities to Toatzy’s Midnight Mini Cookies that were previously sold at Costco. Amid the controversy, Myna Snacks has issued a statement to address the criticism online. A spokesperson from Myna Snacks stated in an email to Dexerto, “Our product formulation is unique to Myna and exclusive to us. We can confirm the Midnight Mini Cookies were in development for two years. This process included many rounds of testing and ingredient changes.” The controversy sparked after claims that the Midnight Mini Cookies closely resembled a similar product by Creations Foods. With similar nutritional information and ingredients between the two products, fans alleged this was a “cash grab attempt” in which the product had been simply re-branded or white-labeled. One of the key differences between the two products is the addition of mushroom powder to Myna Snacks’ cookies, which provides Vitamin D. Yet, fans took issue with Myna Snacks charging almost three times the price by weight for what appeared to be a similar offering. While white-labeling is a common business practice in which companies simply rebrand and sell products made by others, Myna Snacks’ response appears to deny this by stating that their unique development process lasted for two years. Fans remain skeptical about the authenticity of the product, however, and want to learn more about how the concept of these cookies came to be. “It would be cool to read about how Darcey and Poki met and came up with the concept for these cookies in specific,” one user wrote on Instagram. Myna Snacks replied, “We will see what we can do,” hinting at the idea of a more in-depth reveal in the future. A previous version of this article said Myna Snacks responded to claims it copied a competitor, this has been corrected.

The event, created by Adrien Nougaret and Alexandre Dachary, is back once again in 2021, running until October 31, looking to smash records from previous years. Pokimane’s surprise donation gains wholesome reaction This year’s ZEvent is raising funds for charities such as Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders, and Save The Children (Avengers France). • Pokimane’s Myna cookies review: Are the cookies worth the price, and the drama? – Dexerto

Pokimane’s Myna cookies review: Are the cookies worth the price, and the drama? Twitch star Pokimane released her very own cookie brand, ‘Myna Snacks,’ this November — but are they worth the price, and the controversy that came with it? Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys is one of the internet’s most recognizable streamers. In fact, she’s the most-followed woman on Twitch, despite stepping away from the platform to focus on other avenues back in 2022. In November 2023, Pokimane released her very first product, a snack line named ‘Myna Snacks.’ The first (and so far, only) product in this line is ‘Midnight Mini Cookies’ — bite-sized dark chocolate cookies infused with Vitamin D and filled with white chocolate chips. Pokimane’s goal for these treats, she says, is to “create a brand that provides the healthy and yummy snacks that we deserve” — but not everyone was immediately on board with her latest venture, based on first impressions. So, are these cookies actually any good? Pokimane’s Myna Snacks controversy explained Almost instantly after revealing her new product, Myna Snacks came under scrutiny from netizens, one of whom highlighted in a viral Twitter/X thread that the cookies were strikingly similar to another cookie brand that had been available at Costco earlier this year. That’s not all; others balked at the price of Pokimane’s Myna cookies, which are sold in batches of four, eight, and 12 bags at $7 per bag. Given the similarities to another (far cheaper) cookie brand and its total cost, netizens rallied against Pokimane’s Myna Snacks — leading to a string of negative feedback for the streamer. In a statement to Dexerto, Myna Snacks said their Midnight Mini Cookies “product formulation is unique to Myna and exclusive to us.” Pokimane later made a similar statement in a post on Twitter/X, while also confirming that she’d partnered with Creation Foods, the brand behind the viral Costco cookies, and tweaked their original formula to suit her goals. As for the price, Pokimane said, “making a healthy and quality snack with real, gluten-free ingredients and added vitamins is not a cheap practice” — something she’d take back in a stream shortly thereafter. During a broadcast on November 18, Pokimane lashed out at a viewer criticizing the price of Myna Snacks, suggesting if they were a “broke boy” they should just say so. Although she later apologized for the comment, the ordeal left a sour taste in many viewers’ mouths. We decided to buy Pokimane’s Myna Snacks to try them out for ourselves and see if they’re tasty enough to warrant the price she’s asking for — as well as the drama that’s spawned as a result of it. Pokimane’s Myna Snacks Midnight Mini Cookies Review First thing first: these cookies aren’t cheap. A quick peek at the Myna Snacks website shows that you can only nab Poki’s cookies in batches of multiple bags. At $7 per bag, this adds up pretty quickly. There’s also an option to join the Myna Snack Club for $25.20, which delivers a four-pack of Myna Snacks to your door every month. Taking the smallest batch into consideration, including standard shipping, fans will end up paying a total of $32.99 for just four bags of mini chocolate chip cookies. This was the option I went for. A quick breakdown of some details on the Myna Snacks Midnight Mini Cookies is as follows: ~ 28 cookies per bag – Gluten Free – Plant based – All natural ingredients – 8 grams of sugar per serving – 140 calories – 25 grams of carbs – In terms of taste, there’s nothing especially unique about Myna’s Midnight Mini Cookies… but I can’t deny that they’re good. In fact, I found myself going through an entire bag without realizing it. Although they taste a bit airy at first, you’ll find yourself reaching for another, and then another… Next thing you know, the entire bag is gone. That being said, these cookies are fairly messy. After opening up a package, cookie dust got all over my kitchen table, and little crumbs found their way onto the floor while I snacked — which might spell bad news for gamers who don’t want a mess all over their keyboards. Did I feel “good” after eating an entire bag, as Pokimane said in her announcement post and YouTube video? I would say so. Poki’s cookies are infused with Vitamin D and gluten-free, on top of boasting all-natural ingredients. They also include almost half as much sugar as leading brands of cookies per serving (8 grams of sugar vs 14 grams). They’re a yummy treat without the guilt of downing a couple of oreos, which, by comparison, have far more sugar per serving. However, priced at $7 per bag, with about 28 cookies in each bag, I can’t say that Pokimane’s Myna Snacks Midnight Mini Cookies are worth the cost. Are they tasty? Absolutely. Are they healthier compared to other leading cookie brands? Yes. Are they worth it at $7 a bag? Probably not. That said, mileage may vary for those who have dietary restrictions. Finding good gluten-free options can be a pain, especially when it comes to baked goods like cookies. If you’re looking to satisfy a craving while sticking to your diet, these cookies may have more value to you than the average consumer. Of course, Poki isn’t the only influencer to have expensive products out there, and she’s certainly not the only creator to have experienced backlash as a result of her product (Prime Energy, anyone?) — but bearing the price in mind, it might be better to grab a granola bar instead.

During the event, a security guard recognized Pokimane and went out of his way to get a photo with her and thank the streamer for taking some time to talk with him. Needless to say, Pokimane was absolutely overwhelmed by the wholesome interaction. Pokimane makes security guard’s day After acquiring some merch for his kids, the security guard went up to Pokimane and gave her a hug, commenting how his kids follow her streams. “Tell them I said hi! Oh that is so wholesome. You are so welcome,” Poki remarked as the father embraced both her and Hasan. “Thank you for your hard work, we appreciate it a lot.” The man further explained how his kids told him that he “wouldn’t understand” their interests in streamers, but given how he went out of his way to talk to Pokimane and her friends, something she was impressed with. “It’s nice for you to care!” she exclaimed, still taken aback by the whole situation. It’s not every day that streamers interact with the parents of their viewers, but this was easily one of the best interactions we’ve seen and one that is sure to make the man’s kids very happy.

  • Pokimane’s highly anticipated collab with Jidion is taking the internet by storm – Dexerto

Pokimane’s highly anticipated collab with Jidion is taking the internet by storm JiDionThe highly-anticipated collaboration between Twitch star Pokimane and streamer Jidion has finally been released, showing the two influencers officially squashing their beef. Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys is Twitch’s most-followed female streamer who was targeted with a hate raid orchestrated by influencer Jidion and his fanbase. The raid turned into a weeks-long debacle that saw Anys and her fans receive intense harassment from internet trolls who rode in on the coattails of Jidion’s initial raid. Jidion ended up publicly apologizing to Pokimane for the incident and was ultimately permanently banned from Twitch. It seemed like matters were mostly settled when Jidion posted a totally unexpected selfie with Pokimane earlier this month. The two confirmed that a collaboration had taken place and would go live a few weeks later. Jidion uploaded the video on February 15, showing the two getting together for a Chick-Fil-A mukbang to hash out the tough questions between them. Pokimane said that she forgives Jidion and doesn’t believe him to be a “sexist or a misogynist,” but merely thinks he “exhibited certain behaviors or said certain things that you didn’t realize are kinda sexist.” She also pushed Jidion on why he set her infamous makeup-free selfie as his Twitter profile picture after initially getting banned from Twitch. Jidion admitted that he had been fairly drunk at the time, but urged Pokimane to lean into the humor in the situation and even advised her to post the photo with the caption: “This face makes more money than you ever will” — which she did, right when the video was posted. this face makes more money than you’ll ever see in your life pic.twitter.com/ZB1dtKexr8 — pokimane (@pokimanelol) February 15, 2022 “Poki is good with me,” Jidion said. “I f**k with Poki. You guys f**k with Poki. Ninja, please don’t sue her. She’s cool.” Overall, it seems that these two have officially made amends with each other and even hope to collaborate more in the future. The video is already nearing half a million views just an hour after being posted, showing that interest is certainly there between two streamers whose beef took the internet by storm just weeks ago.
