However, to the chagrin of many, these reports were swiftly shut down in October 2020 by, now former, Apex Legends game director, Chad Grenier. “Nobody is currently working on Titanfall 3” were Grenier’s words when asked about a Titanfall sequel. The most recent update was a more positive one that serves as a beacon of hope for fans desperate for the long-awaited third game. After removing Titanfall 2 from paid subscription services, a Tweet from Respawn said: “Rest assured, Titanfall is core to Respawn’s DNA and this incredible universe will continue.” New Respawn Entertainment single-player game – Titanfall 3? All the rumors and speculation aside, job adverts in July 2021 confirmed that Respawn are working on a brand-new single-player experience. The positions included a Lead Technical Game Designer, Senior Technical Game Designer, Senior Combat Designer, and Senior Level Designer. Obviously, this got the pulses racing for Titanfall fans once more, but almost immediately they were shot down again by Community Director Jason Garza. In a live stream during September 2021 he said: “Don’t get your hopes up, man. I’ve said this before. We don’t have anything in [the] works. There’s nothing. There’s nothing there. This information was seemingly corroborated by TheGamer, who reported on January 14, 2022, that Respawn is working on a new shooter and, again, “it’s not Titanfall.” As it turns out, this could be a new Star Wars project. In an announcement on EA’s website, the publisher confirmed multiple Star Wars projects are in the works at Respawn, alongside a Jedi: Fallen Order sequel. “Leading the development of Respawn’s all-new first-person shooter game is Peter Hirschmann, Game Director at Respawn, who has a long and accomplished history with the franchise,” the statement reads. Hirschmann previously worked on the likes of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, as well as the original Battlefront and Battlefront 2. “The third title is a strategy game developed through a production collaboration with the newly formed studio Bit Reactor, helmed by games industry veteran Greg Foertsch. Respawn will produce the new strategy game while Bit Reactor leads on the development of the title.” Sadly, that probably means that Titanfall 3 is even further away. The easiest way to reach it is by taking the wooden bridge that you find to the right of the Second Prince of Flowing Sands arena. Explore a little after crossing the wooden bridge and you will end up at this Shrine. Step 2: Defeat the Mother of Stones From the Rockrest Flat Shrine, turn back and walk inside the cave. Take the right from the cave, move straight, and then left. You will meet the Mother of Stones boss. This boss is pretty simple as it sits in one place without attacking. Instead, a few minions spawn that you can kill and then take down the boss. Just be careful as the minions can be annoying, and if you try to brute force the fight, you will end up dying a lot. Take your time, as the minions will try to swarm you with numbers. The Cloud Step spell comes in handy in this fight along with Immobilize. You can also use the Guangzhi transformation to take down the minions quickly. Upon defeating the boss, you’ll receive an item called the Stone Essence. Step 3: Find the Man-In-Stone From the boss fight, turn back and walk straight into the dark cave once again. Keep moving until you reach the very end of the road, and then take a sharp right turn. From here, walk straight until you reach the dead-end, and take a right. Keep moving and you’ll notice a drop to your left. Move left and you will hear a voice calling you. Drop down and you will meet the Man-In-Stone. Step 4: Defeat the Man-In-Stone boss Once you interact with the Man-In-Stone, it will ask you for a key item. This is the Stone Essence that you can deliver to the boss, provided you have already defeated the Mother of Stones as mentioned above. However, you realize it is a fraud as it will stand up and start mocking you for being gullible. Strike it once and the boss fight will begin. The boss fight is fairly simple as the Man-In-Stone does not have any special moves apart from slamming its head into the ground. However, the area where you fight the boss is pretty small, so it’s easy to get hit. Apart from that, the smaller enemies in the surrounding area, will throw rocks and keep interrupting you. This can be quite annoying to deal with, and you must take them out before fighting the Man-In-Stone. Step 5: Get access to Azure Dust After defeating the boss, you get access to a new Transformation spell, Azure Dust. However, the Man-In-Stone also becomes a merchant afterwards. Rest at a Shrine, come back, and you can now buy items from it, including the Stone Ridge Beast for Will. The Gold Ridge Beast can also be obtained as a drop from bosses. As such, if you get one from defeating a boss, you can sell it for a massive 6000 Will. Finally, we also want to mention that there are some puzzling secrets hidden in this game. Overwhelming for beginners For many, the thought of starting a fully-fledged MMO is incredibly daunting. There’s always so much to do and explore that it can often feel extremely overwhelming for those new to online multiplayer like ESO. Unfortunately, this is entirely the case for Elder Scrolls Online and new players will likely find their introduction incredibly intense. The game includes six unique classes, each with its own skill lines along with different crafting, collecting, dungeons, trials, and hundreds of quests, all mixed up into a vast world filled with deeply embedded lore that spans decades of popular games in the franchise. If players do have someone who’s already ingrained in ESO, working through the first few hours with them is ideal. If not, be sure to take it slowly and explore each element at your own pace. Starting off by staying in your first zone is highly recommended. The overwhelming nature of Elder Scrolls Online’s features doesn’t serve to dampen the beginner-friendly nature of the controls. Each spell, skill, and attack is simple to grasp and has the perfect match between skill fighting and simply having enough power to take down that Ice Wrath (of which there is never enough power, those things are far too strong). Thanks to the introduction and the fairly simple controls, you’ll be able to get acquainted with Tamriel quickly and efficiently. Then all you need to do is learn the art of blacksmithing, enchanting, woodwork, jewelry crafting, cooking, horse riding, questing, fighting, and so much more. An MMO of many chapters It’s not a new element to expect an MMO to be filled with everchanging content to keep players exploring new regions and completing new quests. Elder Scrolls Online manages to introduce new content perfectly. Many come in the form of smaller DLCs like the Thieves Guild which unlocks quest lines, skills, and chests to open while exploring Tamriel, while others come in the form of chapters. These include the recent High Isle, and expand to the fantastic Elsweyr update or the Skyrim homage, Greymoor. Ultimately, ESO manages to encapsulate every Elder Scrolls fan’s favorite location and allow any player the chance to explore these expansive worlds one by one. Each chapter introduces famous enemies like Mehrunes Dagon while embedding lovable characters and combat challenges through each main or side quest. On top of that, players get the chance to find out what they most love about ESO and experience something in that chapter leaning toward their passions. If you prefer dungeons then there’s a new one in each chapter, but if you prefer PvP then that’s available, too. If you simply love running around and exploring, there’s an expansive map that’s likely big enough to create an entire game on its own, with thousands of Skyshards, lore books, points of interest, and characters to interact with. With six chapters to enjoy now, it’s safe to say players of Elder Scrolls Online will never be stuck without something to do. There’s also the perk regarding new players. If you buy the High Isle expansion, you get access to all the previous chapters meaning one purchase is all that’s needed, rather than having to go through the game and select each chapter you want to unlock. Of course, if you don’t want to unlock them all that’s entirely possible too. It’s something that makes Destiny 2’s convoluted collection of expansions look a bit silly. Is The Elder Scrolls Online worth playing in 2023? In a word? Absolutely. Elder Scrolls Online is undeniably worth playing in 2023. It may be relatively overwhelming and lend more to group playing rather than solo explorers, but if you can stick with it and make your own way in the world of Tamriel, you’re guaranteed to have a blast for years. The notion that you can buy the most recent expansion and still get access to all the previous chapters without purchasing separately makes ESO a deal any MMO or Elder Scrolls fans should buy and try. Datamined leaks and an enigmatic line of in-game dialogue hinted at the FES expansion’s arrival as DLC. So, is the FES expansion coming to Persona 3 Reload? Persona 3 Reload, the remake of the much-loved and remarkably intricate JRPG from Atlus, has, impressed and enchanted fans of the series. Now the developers revealed there’s even more to look forward to, especially for longtime fans of the series. Prior to Persona 3 Reload’s release, Atlus said they wanted to “genuinely work on recreating” Persona 3’s player experience, and they meant it. Despite initially telling fans not to expect a Persona 4 Golden or Persona 5 Royal treatment for P3R, it turns out P3R will get its full story retold after all. Is Stellar Blade a Soulslike game? Shift UpStellar Blade shares a lot of similarities to other games in the action-adventure genre, but is it part of the Soulslike genre? At first glance, Stellar Blade looks a lot like Bayonetta and NieR: Automata. Essentially, a game that follows the Devil May Cry approach to combat, prioritizing style and fast-paced combo chains over the slower more methodical approach battles in the Soulslike genre, such as Elden Ring, Dark Souls, or games like Lies of P. However, after getting hands-on with the demo, players discovered that the game shares a lot of similarities with Soulslike games, especially in terms of combat mechanics and how exploration works. The question is though, is Stellar Blade a Soulslike game, or is it something new entirely? Is Stellar Blade a Soulslike? Unlike Lies of P, Lords of the Fallen, Wo Long, and many other games that skilfully borrow from FromSoftware’s classic formula, Stellar Blade only borrows from aspects of the Soulslike genre and is not a true Soulslike experience. The game also doesn’t borrow from the Devil May Cry/Bayonetta approach that heavily either and instead, cherrypicks mechanics from lots of different action games to create something unique. Combat is a fun blend of both, with the game featuring a parry/riposte system that is similar to Soulslike games, but one which is much easier to master. While the combat never veers into hack-and-slash, Stellar Blade is much more forgiving than the average Soulslike and even has an easy mode. Those who enjoy the rock-hard nature of games like Elden Ring though may prefer to play on the harder difficulty, as this way boss fights really do become a test for the reflexes and are much more punishing to those who don’t engage with the nuances of combat. Stellar Blade features a camp system that is very similar to Dark Souls‘ bonfires or the Sites of Grace from Elden Ring. After resting here, all nearby enemies will respawn, your health items will be replenished, and you can use the camp as a checkpoint/fast-travel point. However, the game doesn’t feature a “souls currency” like most games of this genre. Instead, players will accumulate points in combat which eventually turn into SP that can be spent on upgrading skills to aid in combat. Unlike most games in this genre, the player never truly levels up, they just upgrade their skills while their basic stats stay the same. So, while Stellar Blade isn’t a traditional Soulslike game, it will certainly appeal to those looking for a new challenge, as well as some epic boss encounters. Of course, official confirmations only lead to more speculation, with Jeff Grub’s latest share sparking a wildfire. In his latest YouTube video, Grubb shared (starts at the 6:45 minute mark in the video): “I’m hopeful that we would see something from Sucker Punch that is causing Ghost of Tsushima 2 to take a little bit longer than we were expecting. My hope is something with Sly Cooper.” He followed up that it wasn’t confirmed, and was only speculation, although he claimed there was “smoke out there.” Grubb is a prominent member of the gaming industry, and, while this caused a lot of commotion with many taking his word as final, he himself told people to take his speculation with a grain of salt. “If you go write your headlines about this one, that’s on you,” he explained. After enough platforms and voices shared Grubb’s words despite his warning, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier shut down all the information spread. “No truth to this one, sorry to say. Sucker Punch is a one-project studio. The reason Ghost of Tsushima 2 isn’t out yet is because AAA video games now take 5-7 years to make. Many are struggling to sign into the platform, meaning they are unable to play any games online, and for those who have digital copies of games, they may not be able to access their favorite titles at all, depending on their system settings. At time of writing, Sony’s official status page for the PlayStation Network states that all services are up and operational, although according to Twitter users, that is not the case. Social media users took to the platform to express their annoyance that they were unable to get access to the network, and have been unable to sign-in due to the issues. So, with Warner Bros’ platform fighting game coming out, what are the chances that Neo is available as a DLC fighter? Sadly, it might be looking a bit unlikely.
