  • Apex Legends Bloodhound tip makes finding enemies easier – Dexerto

Apex Legends Bloodhound tip makes finding enemies easier Apex Legends is a game where locating and eliminating enemies is the key to victory, and Bloodhound is one of the best Legends to use if you’re hoping to find opponents. Apex Legends has been officially live for just over three weeks, and many players are already trying to figure out which Legends are the best to use when you’re hunting for the victory on King’s Canyon. While some Legends are rated higher than others, one of the more popular characters in the game is Bloodhound, who uses their ‘Eye of the Allfather’ ability to allow players to see if any enemies are around them, even if they are concealed behind a wall. While this can be extremely useful, some Apex Legends players believe that the ability will highlight any players in their vicinity, even if they are behind them when they activate it. This is not the case, as Eye of the Alfather will highlight players, traps and clues through any structure – but only if they are directly in front of you. Bloodhound’s ability only works on the area a player is facing, meaning it will highlight anything that would be feasibly in your eye line even if it’s behind a building, but will not mark anything that is behind you. While some players may already be aware of this tidbit, it seems that many are mistaken regarding the Eye of the Allfather, and how it works when used in a match. Being aware that players could still be behind you when you activate this ability could be the difference between finding the victory, or finding yourself back in the lobby.

  • Apex Legends Bloodhound Town Takeover: Permanent Duos & Kings Canyon – Dexerto

Apex Legends Bloodhound Town Takeover: Permanent Duos & Kings Canyon Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment have announced the next in-game event for Apex Legends Season 4 – a new Town Takeover called ‘Bloodhound’s Trail in the Old Ways Lore’ event. After weeks of leaks and speculation, Respawn finally announced Bloodhound’s Town Takeover on April 2, the first one of 2020 after Wraith, Octane, and Mirage all got theirs last year. The event will add a flurry of new content in Apex Legends, both permanent and limited-time, as well as the usual set of exclusive cosmetic items that usually accompany these sorts of occasions. When does the Bloodhound Town Takeover start? Bloodhound’s Old Ways Lore event will be kicking off on Tuesday, April 7 and last the customary two weeks before wrapping up on Tuesday, April 21. This limited-time affair features three main components – the Town Takeover, a Prize Track, and Direct Purchase Shop, where players will be able to buy themed cosmetics directly from the in-game store. Bloodhound’s Origin Story Cinematic As part of the announcement, Respawn also released a short animated cinematic about Bloodhound and their incredible origin story, which saw the Legend evolve from a hot-headed youngling into the cool Technological Tracker we know today, earning the trust and blessing of the mighty Allfather on the way. Permanent Duos and Kings Canyon As part of this event, Respawn will be adding both Duos and Kings Canyon as permanent options moving forward, both of which have been highly requested by the player-base for a long while now. Now, players will be able to not only queue into matches with just one other person, but they’ll have the choice of either playing on World’s Edge or the older map, although the devs did not specify whether it’ll be the version from Season 1 or 2. These will remain past the April 21 end-date of the event since they are permanent additions to the game. Bloodhound’s Trials and Prowlers As expected from the recent in-game teasers, the northwest corner of World’s Edge will be transformed for this Town Takeover, where players will be able to complete Bloodhound’s Trials. Here they will come up against an alien species called Prowlers, which are new to Apex Legends but originated from Respawn’s Titanfall series. Prowlers carry high-tier loot that they will drop when defeated. Earn the favor of the Allfather in the Old Ways Event April 7-21. Prove yourself against a hoard of prowlers in Bloodhound’s Trials. Master daily challenges to earn exclusive items. And squad up on Kings Canyon or Duos, which have returned for good. 🪓: https://t.co/4C7QufHXpI pic.twitter.com/PEoOa9M4k6 — Apex Legends (@PlayApex) April 6, 2020 There will also be challenges that players can complete, each worth 1,000 points and will be refreshed on a daily basis. Earning points will unlock the various rewards offered in the Prize Track, headlined by a themed weapon charm, Gibraltar outfit skin, and weapon camo. With still several days to go before this event kicks off, we could see more details and/or teasers for it revealed, so we’ll make sure to keep you updated on anything new. Until then, you can re-familiarize yourself with Kings Canyon in Ranked Play, where it has been made the main map for competitive following the recent Series 3 Split.

  • Insane Apex Legends tribute to Bloodhound found in a field in Japan – Dexerto

Insane Apex Legends tribute to Bloodhound found in a field in Japan Electronic ArtsPublisher Electronic Arts and an organization in Koshigaya City, Japan, have created a Bloodhound-inspired Apex Legends rice paddy art that features a QR code. Bloodhound counted among the eight original Apex Legends heroes, which launched alongside the game in February 2019. In the three-plus years since then, the Respawn-created title has become a worldwide phenomenon for players of all ages. As such, it hardly comes as a surprise that Apex Legends was the second most talked about game on Twitter in 2021. Twitter Gaming statistics also indicate Japan may have led the charge on this front, considering its status as the country that tweeted about gaming the most last year. Apex Legends-inspired rice paddy art created in Japan It seems Japan’s love for Apex Legends knows no bounds, either. Japanese publication EAA!! reports that EA teamed up with the Koshigaya Rice Paddy Art Executive Committee in Koshigaya City, Japan to sponsor the creation of Bloodhound rice paddy art. Located in Saitama Prefecture, a second Apex Legends-branded design also constitutes Japan’s first-ever “QR code rice paddy art.” According to EAA!!, those who want to visit the 50m x 50m field art can view it from a train window. Yorozoonews noted that rice field art has played an integral role in Koshigaya City tourism since 2010. It makes sense, then, that publisher Electronic Arts chose this as a promotional tool since it wants “Japanese users to feel close to the game.” Given that Apex Legends Season 14 is due to release early next month on August 9, now seems as good a time as any for EA to invest in grand gestures abroad. Notably, the upcoming season will introduce players to an all-new playable Legend, Vantage, along with changes to the King Canyon map.

  • New Apex Legends weapon Bocek Bow for Season 9: Damage, Ammo, Hop-ups – Dexerto

New Apex Legends weapon Bocek Bow for Season 9: Damage, Ammo, Hop-ups Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment have revealed their new weapon for Apex Legends Season 9, and after plenty of rumors, we’ll finally be able to get our hands on a bow in the Legacy update. With each new Apex Legends season, Respawn Entertainment adds a new Legend and plenty of other content to their popular battle royale. That usually includes a new weapon too. Only two seasons, Apex season five and seven, didn’t give players a new weapon to wield, and rumors suggested that season nine was going to follow suit as well. However, now Respawn have confirmed that new season, known as Legacy, will be bringing a new weapon to the Apex Games, and it’s one we’ve heard about for quite some time – a bow. Bocek Bow in Apex Legends That’s right, the long-awaited Compound Bow that was leaked a few seasons back is finally coming to Apex. It’s not actually called a Compound Bow, though, as its in-game name is the Bocek Bow. Read More: How Arenas works in Apex Legends – “A powerful and deadly weapon, for those with the skill to wield it. Capable of inflicting tremendous damage at medium range, you’ll need to make each shot count.” And they’re not kidding. The bow can equip all optics excluding sniper optics, and is capable of equipping two new Hop-ups at the same time to make it extra deadly. Bocek Bow Damage Head: 123 fully drawn. – Body: 70 fully drawn. – Body: 30 if fired when not fully drawn. – Bocek Bow: Hop-ups It doesn’t end there, though. The bow can also be equipped with Shatter Caps and Deadeye’s Tempo Hop-ups to pack some extra punch. Deadeye’s Tempo: Firing at the perfect moment increases fire rate – Shatter Caps: Rounds split into a blast pattern on firing – Shatter Caps are very interesting, as they allow the bow to become more viable at close range. The downside is that you won’t be able to pick up arrows you’ve fired if you use this hop up. You can toggle both hop-ups on or off at any time. For full details on these, check out our Apex Season 9 Hop-up breakdown right here. Bocek Bow Ammo type The bow will, unsurprisingly, use a new ammo type: Arrows. Arrow loot is very scarce on the map though, so you’ll probably have to rely on picking up arrows you’ve fired to keep well-stocked. If you kill an enemy with the bow, the arrows used will be in their deathbox. In addition to the bow, Respawn have revealed some of the other content coming in Season 9 as well. The legend will be Valkyrie, rather the previously leaked name of Valk. There will also be some changes to the Olympus map as it’s been overrun by an infestation. Apex fans will be able to experience everything that’s new on May 4 when the new season starts.

  • Apex Legends’ Bloodhound receives useful upgrade to their ultimate – Dexerto

Apex Legends’ Bloodhound receives useful upgrade to their ultimate Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have uncovered a new use for Bloodhound’s Beast of the Hunt ultimate ability that allows them to scout out the tier of a potential shield pick up. While Fortnite has it’s building and PUBG has incredibly realistic shooting, the one thing that sets Apex Legends apart from its battle royale counter-parts is the different Legends. There is a character that, pretty much, suits every different playstyle. What to play defensively and take your time? Choose Mirage. Want to get right into the action and battle foes quickly? Pick Wraith. However, one legend that started off pretty popular and slipped down the ranks is Bloodhound. Yet, the recon legend could get a revival after a new use for its ultimate was uncovered. In a post to the Apex Legends subreddit, user th3professional pointed out that the Beast of the Hunt ultimate ability lets players see what level of armor is around them by showing off the respective color level. With normal settings, some colors are more distinctive than others and its easier to make out blues and purples than white and gold. However, with the tritanopia color-blind settings enabled, everything becomes a little easier to see – but your red holographic sights will now become yellow. While using the different settings may very well give some players a slight advantage, others had different ideas for a way to help Bloodhound become a more powerful legend. “Would be cool if he could tell the shield color with his ultimate on enemy players,” commented one Redditor. Another, JustAPotato2001, added: “Instead of the Gibby buff, this could have been a potential buff to Bloodhound.” Comment byu/th3professional from discussion inapexlegends Of course, any future changes have to come from Respawn themselves and only come once everything from balancing to potential glitches are taken into account. Who knows though, we could see a more powerful Bloodhound in the future. For now, at least, there are slight additions to the Legend’s ultimate and that’s what we’ve got to work with.

  • Apex Legends Black Friday event leaked – Dexerto

Apex Legends Black Friday event leaked Apex Legends will be getting another in-game event thanks to Black Friday – with some rarer skins making a return to the item shop if leaked information is to be believed. The third season of Apex Legends, Meltdown, has been going strong after giving fans of the battle royale title a brand-new map as well as a new legend. While fans have got to explore the new World’s Edge map, they also got the chance to head back to King’s Canyon thanks to the Shadowfall limited-time-mode that was introduced to put a Halloween-themed spin on things. Yet, that doesn’t appear to be the only event that players will be able to partake in before the season is out and everyone changes course and heads to season four. According to reliable Apex data miner That1MiningGuy, Respawn Entertainment are set to launch a ‘mini-event’ to celebrate Black Friday – the traditional post-Thanksgiving shopping rush in the United States. Unlike Shadowfall, where there was a playable mode, the Black Friday event will, seemingly, focus on the game’s item shop. In real life, the frenzy to head to a store and pick up some sweet deals usually comes because there are ridiculous discounts, however, it’s unknown if that’ll be the case in Apex. Instead, the leaker noted that some older, collection skins could be making a comeback. Timestamp for mobile viewers of 12:25 That could mean that fans who missed out on the unique skins from the Iron Crown and Legendary Hunt collections could, very well, have another chance to get around to them in season three. Of course, what appears in the item shop is solely up to Respawn, so there’s no guarantee that fans will get every skin that they want. Regardless, though, Black Friday falls on Friday, November 29, so we won’t have long to wait to see what’s in-store from the developers as they should likely confirm the event in the days building up to it.

  • Apex Legends Black Friday Octane skin features game-breaking visual bug – Dexerto

Apex Legends Black Friday Octane skin features game-breaking visual bug Respawn Entertainment only just released the Black Friday update for Apex Legends on November 26 and dedicated players are already uncovering ridiculous issues with the new cosmetic items. The first-ever Black Friday celebration in Apex Legends has been met with much frustration due to a rather lackluster refresh of the in-game store. With only two new character skins accessible throughout the limited-time event, players were quick to voice their displeasure. Serving as the cherry on top of the controversial situation however, a newly discovered bug with one of the cosmetic items has even the most dedicated players on-edge. Available until November 30, a brand-new Legendary Octane skin titled ‘Laughing Fool,’ has the eccentric character dressed up as a jester of sorts. With a red and black costume lined with golden fabric and a complete mask to boot, there’s no denying that the purchasable item is impressively detailed. Unfortunately, a new game-breaking bug stems from the use of this jester outfit as numerous Apex Legends players have been sharing their hassles with the skin that costs 1,800 Apex Coins or the equivalent of just under $20. Read more: When does Apex Legends Season 4 start? – While the golden trimming may look fantastic from afar, the intricate costume actually obscures a nearly half of the screen when aiming down sights with Octane. Supposedly the visual bug is triggered when utilizing a Prowler with a Holo Sight equipped. Being an SMG, this weapon can be top of the line when put to use by a highly mobile character such as Octane, however until this new glitch is patched, players may want to steer clear of the weapon or the new skin altogether. Obscuring roughly half of the screen, the new costume overlays everything in sight, even the reticle of the weapon itself. Not only will the combination of items and cosmetics obscure your line of sight in the midst of combat, but it can also block your vision on nearby loot as well. Making it one of the more damaging bugs in recent Apex history. Fortunately, the issue can be completely avoided by simply not equipping the flashy new skin. If you do want to flex with the new item in-game however, just be sure to avoid equipping the Prowler and a Holo Sight at all costs. You can get a full rundown on the Black Friday update and subsequent community outrage here.

  • A ‘Blitz mode’ is exactly what Apex Legends needs – Dexerto

A ‘Blitz mode’ is exactly what Apex Legends needs Graphics from Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment hasn’t yet added a fresh set of playlists to Apex Legends, but there certainly seems to be a growing demand for them from fans. As is the case with many battle royale games, such as Fortnite Battle Royale, PUBG and others, the mid-game can tend to be a slow paced (some would say boring) period in many matches. However, a brand new ‘Blitz mode’ concept has been created by a member of the game’s online community and it might just fix the problem. The idea, which was posted to the Apex Legends subreddit by SmexyMillz, would change the speed of matches drastically and may prove to be a popular idea with other fans. “I believe this game should have a blitz mode playlist where the circle is smaller, only blue shields and above, with p2020 and Mozambique removed from the playlist,” the user posted. “I’m surprised new playlists haven’t been dropped yet,” the Redditor continued. “They could get away with not dropping any characters for a minute if they kept dropping wavey playlists.” Blitz mode from r/apexlegends Millz is not the only Apex Legends player that is surprised that new playlists haven’t been introduced to the battle royale game yet, and also suggested that the storm would do more damage to players in their Blitz mode, as well as Ultimate times being increased. The game might well have attracted over 50 million players since it first launched on February 4, but its developer might be pressured into upping their game with new content and playlists of this kind in order to keep up with other competitors in the BR market. Will new playlists be added in the future? We’ll have to wait and see.

  • Apex Legends Blood Moon bundle slammed for “absolutely ridiculous” price – Dexerto

Apex Legends Blood Moon bundle slammed for “absolutely ridiculous” price Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are up in arms again over skin prices and the bundles the game is pushing instead of individual skin sales. Respawn adjusted its Apex Legends cosmetic rollout in early 2024 to mostly release new skins in bundles with other digital goods, which can cost from about $25 to $40 depending on the rarity attached. Expensive cosmetics are nothing new for the game, with some skins in the $50-$100 range depending on rarity and the cosmetics offered. However, some players have been pushed over the edge with the Season 22 Born of Blood and Coffin Stuffer bundles and took to Reddit to explain their frustrations. “$30 for a skin is absolutely ridiculous. I was considering buying the Alter skin but that is a total rip-off, return skin prices to $20,” one player said on the forum. Others agreed with the sentiment, pointing out how the bundles are also advertised as “on-sale” from their original 6,000 Apex Coins, or $60, price. “$30 from $61, what a steal!” One user joked. Another shared how they don’t want any of the extra cosmetics in these bundles and wish they could just get the Legend skin for a lower price. Others in the thread pointed out that Apex Legends skins have always been on the pricey side, which has been a point of contention with players for years. Cosmetic prices have come under question again in live service games thanks to the release of Spectre Divide, which had to reduce the price of its inaugural skin collections, and high-price bundles like the Faker Hall of Legends skin in League of Legends. Still, some players have embraced live service cosmetics as the current status quo of gaming, with many pulling out their wallets to purchase the next flashy cosmetic bundle or skin set. Some developers have even attached esports tournament prize pools to specific cosmetic sales, giving players another reason to purchase them. But every player has their breaking point when it comes to price, and more Apex Legends seem to be hitting that point.

  • Respawn fixing Apex Legends Bloodhound Prestige glitch resetting progress – Dexerto

Respawn fixing Apex Legends Bloodhound Prestige glitch resetting progress Respawn EntertainmentIt is Apex Legends’ most expensive skin, but the Bloodhound Prestige skin is giving players a headache — not just a wallet-ache — as a glitch was discovered resetting its upgrade progress. Respawn has acknowledged it though, promising a fix and a “make-good”. Respawn introduced a brand new Prestige skin system in Season 12 — although it was controversial. The first skin of its kind for Bloodhound is only unlockable after completing the entire Anniversary Collection event. This costs, effectively, $160. That money will also get you 24 other Legend and weapon skins, but if all you’re interested in is the Bloodhound skin, you have to splash the cash. Once the skin is unlocked, you can grind tiered upgrades by getting damage in-game while playing as Bloodhound. These should change the color on the skin — but should is the keyword. Unfortunately, this challenge’s progress is broken. Quickly after the Bloodhound Prestige was available, players who forked out for it unlocked Tier 1 of the skin and immediately started work on the damage challenge. However, there were problems right out the gate. Some players have reported that damage did not start to accrue towards the 30,000 damage required until after they had restarted their game completely. Even after a restart, progress on the challenge was randomly reset. Read More: Apex Legends Heirlooms list – “I play a couple of games, the tracker counts, I check again and it’s back to 0,” one player explained. Some players broke more than halfway before they got caught up in the glitch. Apex Legends content creator KralRindo reported that their damage was reset from 18,000 back to zero. https://twitter.com/kralrindo/status/1493875732501741568 Respawn promises “make-good” in Bloodhound Prestige fix Respawn has acknowledged the issue with the Bloodhound Prestige skin and are working on a fix. “We are aware of a bug with the Bloodhound Prestige Skin where the damage counter resets in some cases. There is a fix in progress, and we plan to deploy it early next week,” they said on Twitter. However, there is bad news for players — that lost progress can’t be recovered. Respawn has promised they’ll make up for it, but they haven’t explained how. “In the meantime, we are working on a make-good for lost progress—stay tuned for more details,” they added. We are aware of a bug with the Bloodhound Prestige Skin where the damage counter resets in some cases. There is a fix in progress, and we plan to deploy it early next week. In the meantime, we are working on a make-good for lost progress—stay tuned for more details. — Respawn (@Respawn) February 16, 2022 Players will have to hold tight for a fix, and in the meantime, it might not be worth trying to rank up the Prestige skin.

  • Best legends to use in Apex Legends Shadowfall – Dexerto

Best legends to use in Apex Legends Shadowfall Respawn Entertainment launched Apex Legend’s Halloween-themed event Fight or Fright with the Shadowfall LTM, but who is the best legend to use if you want to win? Here’s what you need to know. The Shadowfall limited-time mode has been live in Apex Legends since October 15, letting fans test their hand at a new type of fight inside Kings Canyon. In Shadowfall, players are tasked with surviving until the end before attempting to leave the spooky Kings Canyon setting. If you die before the all-important top-10 is settled, you will become a Shadow Legend, and will have to hunt down any normal players. That may be a part of the fun, but there’s no better feeling than winning – especially considering how tough some have found the mode. So, with that in mind, here are the legends you should be using if you want to win at Shadowfall. Pathfinder The most obvious answer of the bunch is Pathfinder because the robot legend has a zipline that increases a player’s mobility tenfold. Of course, the Shadow Legends have increased mobility themselves but they won’t keep pace with the legend until the late game. At that point, though, Pathfinder’s zipline can be used to create an easy path to the Evac Ship that every survivor can use. Before you hit the late game, however, Pathfinder is best used to be on the offensive. Use that zipline to get around humans, or even use it to do damage. Just make sure you’re not cowering in a corner. Wraith Similarly to Pathfinder, Wraith is another solid choice thanks to her speed and increased mobility ultimate that can benefit the whole lobby, not just herself. She can, of course, also become invulnerable and that works in Shadowfall too. The Interdimensional Skirmisher is a much-used legend in the normal battle royale game type, but also an increasingly popular one in Shadowfall. She should be a top choice for anyone who wants to win, and win while on the front foot. Mirage Mirage may not have the brilliant mobility skills of Pathfinder or Wraith, but the bamboozling legend has an ace, or aces, up his sleeve too. Like the others, his superiority in the mode revolves around his ultimate. The decoys will confuse shadow legends and should they commit to one, you could find yourself heading for an easy escape. Yet, if they don’t, Mirage can be easily gobbled up and end up on the other side. That’s why he’s best used in an opportunistic playstyle. Don’t overly push for kills but don’t sit in a corner either, that is Mirage’s key to success. So, there you have it, the three best legends to use in the Shadowfall LTM. They won’t guarantee success, as that’s pretty hard to do, but they’ll put you in better standing than the others. Use them and follow our tips and tricks guide for the mode and you’ll have a better chance than most players.

  • Apex Legends: Best ways to get rid of cheaters in ranked play – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Best ways to get rid of cheaters in ranked play Respawn EntertainmentCheating continues to be a huge problem in Apex Legends, and Respawn Entertainment will have to find a way to get rid of them sooner or later. The launch of the highly anticipated Season 2 in Apex Legends introduced a lot of new content and changes into the popular battle royale title, but it failed to address of the game’s most integral issues – cheating and hacking. In fact, the introduction of the new Ranked Leagues mode has actually given rise to more of those who play unfairly, cheating their way to the higher ranked divisions. Players from all over the world have been complaining about this issue on social media and Reddit, with one EU-based player claiming that his region’s servers have become “unplayable.” “The majority of games I played today had cheaters; the last game had more than one,” the user wrote. “It’s basically pointless playing Platinum Division right now in the EU. Apex in the EU is completely broken at Platinum, more than one hacker each game.” With this in mind, Reddit user ‘Pjeh‘ has offered up a series of suggestions for how the developers at Respawn could try and address what has become a critical issue. Phone Authentication – Adding a way to authenticate players in ranked play, at least for the higher leagues, would limit those who use alternate accounts to hack their way up the rankings. – Max level to play ranked – The minimum level to play ranked is currently set at 10, but increasing that to 100 (max) would make sure that everyone who’s eligible for ranked had to play a lot to earn it. Those who use cheats would face a higher risk of getting caught if they had to play all the way to the max level first. This could at least be put in place for playing Gold rank or higher. – Partner up with FaceIt – FaceIt is one of the more prominent tournament and league organizers in online gaming, having partnered up with the likes of CS:GO, Battalion 1944, and others. Using FaceIt to run ranked play in Apex would certainly lead to many of the cheaters getting caught. – Hire dedicated team to look for cheaters – While anti-cheat programs are great, having a group of five to 10 people actively looking for cheaters would be a great supplement. This team could go on livestream platforms, like Twitch, and check the streams of high ranked players to see if any illegal activity is going on. – Obviously, there is no way to be sure if any or all of the suggestions above would help limit cheating in Apex Legends ranked play until they’re tested out. However, logic dictates that it would have at least some sort of positive effect, which would be better than nothing. Either way, Respawn will definitely look to put out this fire as soon as possible, before the issue begins affecting gameplay to the point where players start to look for other battle royale options.

  • Apex Legends betrays loyal players with Shadow Society event – Dexerto

Apex Legends betrays loyal players with Shadow Society event Respawn EntertainmentThe Shadow Society event is leaving some of Respawn’s most loyal Apex Legends players behind by locking players out from buying the specific skins they want for their favorite Legends or guns. Crafting metals was introduced into Apex Legends years ago as a way for players to obtain cosmetics and skins without spending real money on Apex Coins. Players earn the in-game currency by opening Apex Packs. These are obtained through completing sections of the battle pass and leveling up. Players have spent time grinding through previous seasons and events or have leveled up their accounts so they can use crafting metals for their favorite skins in new events. Even those who didn’t have the money to drop on a skin for their favorite Legend could grab the skin they want with crafting metals during the event. However, they’re now being short-changed for the Shadow Society event. Those who put time and effort into earning their cosmetics in Apex Legends can’t get the skins they want, something that stands as a betrayal to some of the game’s most loyal players in the years since Apex Legends came out. In the Shadow Society Event, which features six Legend skins and eight weapon skins usually unlockable through crafting metals, players cannot select specific skins to unlock. Instead, players have to take a chance on the event-specific packs and could have their hard-earned crafting metals go to waste on a skin for a character they don’t play or a gun they don’t use. Past events of this kind had only 24 items, with every single one being individually available for purchase with crafting metals. Now they’re all locked behind a roll of the dice, forcing players to fork over potentially hundreds of dollars or thousands of hours worth of grinding for crafting metals to get a skin for their favorite Legend or gun. This is a stark change of pace from Respawn, as the Apex developer has been pretty consistent with how players can unlock cosmetics and give players who don’t want to spend money a chance to pick out their favorite event-specific cosmetics. Previously, Respawn has said that it didn’t want to make Apex Packs the only way for players to get the best skins, similar to the loot box mechanics from other titles. However, that thinking has seemingly gone to the wayside for this event. Whether this about-face is due to the recent gaming industry turmoil and layoffs, or something planned months ago is unknown. All dedicated Apex Legends players know is that Respawn isn’t the same as it once was when it comes to monetization practices, and the steep price behind the game’s cosmetics is something players have never been particularly fond of to begin with.

  • Apex Legends has a bizarre Arc Star glitch that’s frustrating players – Dexerto

Apex Legends has a bizarre Arc Star glitch that’s frustrating players Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has seen numerous bugs pop in throughout King’s Canyon, and it looks like a new glitch with the Arc Stars is preventing them from landing on their marks. Respawn Entertainment launched Apex Legends in a surprise release back in February. While it attracted millions of players in a short span, the game has been bombarded with issues from rampant cheaters, game-breaking bugs and so much more. A new glitch has been emerging throughout games that are making players take a second before throwing Arc Stars to see if they’re near any obstacles like launch pads since they might have a bizarre effect on the projectile. In a Reddit post, user ‘Addacock’ was mopping up some players in his match when an opponent crossed his path and was just standing there waiting to get an Arc Star in their back. What was supposed to be an easy throw resulted in a confusing gaffe that showed the Arc Star clearly reaching its mark, but then deciding to fling straight up into the air. For those unaware, players find a lot of use in Arc Stars specifically because they stick to the platform they first come in contact with, be it a wall or person. If it’s the latter, then it will also deal damage on impact. So that clip not only shows the wayward Arc Star bouncing off their mark, but it also ignored the base damage it was supposed to do on hit. What could have caused the Arc Star bug? While the Redditor was still able to lock down the kill, the clip had players wondering as to what could have caused the issue in the first place. The answer could lie in the Launch Pad that the player was positioned right next to before throwing the projectile. According to some people, the Arc Star can have a strange interaction if used too close to a Launch Pad. “[The bug appeared] because of the [Launch Pad],” Redditor ‘TophIRL’ said. “Arc Stars have a huge fucking hitbox if you’re trying to throw it while being close to a Launch Pad… Usually when I see people far away I throw Launch Pad on ground and throw my Arc Stars at it and it bounces off.” With such an odd bug being caused by two very common items in the game, Respawn might want to look into adding it to the backlog of fixes they need to amend for their next patch.

  • Apex Legends’ bizarre Season 19 Battle Pass pre-order has fans confused – Dexerto

Apex Legends’ bizarre Season 19 Battle Pass pre-order has fans confused EAAhead of Apex Legends Season 19, fans have found out they can preorder the next season’s battle pass. They weren’t too sure why you’d want to pre-order a Battle Pass, but the confusion doesn’t stop there. The end of the current season of Apex Legends is almost here, and Respawn Entertainment is ready for Season 19. The newest Legend, Conduit, will join the roster alongside Ranked changes come the launch of Ignite. Aside from gameplay changes, new seasons always provide a battle pass to grind through, full of cosmetics to flex. The pinnacle reward of the battle pass has always been the reactive weapon skin, skins with in-game effects that evolve as a player gets kills. Oddly enough, players have discovered you can preorder the battle pass for Season 19. Pre-ordering in-game goodies is certainly a little strange and not something many games have done, but players were even more taken aback after learning how the pre-order rewards applied to their account. Apex Legends players can preorder Season 19 battlepass Head over to the in-game shop, and there’s a blurb present that notifies Season 19’s battle pass can be preordered. Preordering the battle pass will grant players 50 stars (five tiers) and access to next season’s battle pass. Players pointed out that the 50 stars given are for the current season not for next season. This discovery raised some questions when shared to the ApexUncovered Subreddit. “What is the point of this? I could understand it if you got a genuine extra reward/unlock but it’s literally you get current battlepass stars and nothing else? tf,” commented one user. Another said “Do not, and I repeat, do not, preorder ANYTHING, especially from EA. This kind of stunt is usually in anticipation of it being hot dookie.” Many agreed with this sentiment, as Respawn hasn’t shown any battle pass cosmetics yet. One thing to note, the preorder costs the same as a standard battle pass purchase. Both come out to 950 Apex Coins, but the difference is 50 stars are given for the current season. Perhaps Respawn will change the way pre-orders work in the future, but until then, beware of this pre-order if you’re expecting the Battle Pass points to count for Season 19’s rewards.

  • Apex Legends battle pass rewards set for major change in Season 11 – Dexerto

Apex Legends battle pass rewards set for major change in Season 11 Respawn/EAApex Legends’ battle pass rewards could be set for a big change in Season 11 as Respawn opens up the chance for players to grab missed cosmetics. Just like its battle royale rivals, Apex Legends operates a battle pass system for each season. With each new battle pass, a whole raft of cosmetics and items are introduced to the game and players scramble to collect them all. With Apex becoming increasingly popular, thanks to the rise of hackers in Warzone, players want the chance to get old cosmetics that they may have missed out on. For long-time players, they’d rather these be exclusive to those fans who unlocked them at the time. Though, that could be all set to change in Season 11. As Apex Legends leaker Garret pointed out, Respawn’s FAQ page about the battle pass and cosmetics has been updated to change some wording around older items. Previously, the answer stated that the start of Season 10 would signal a change to the battle pass, bringing older cosmetics back through events or the item store. Now, however, it states that it’ll change in Season 11. Additionally, the new change states that event-limited items – cosmetics from collection and themed events – may also return in a similar fashion. As the leaker says, this wasn’t the case prior to Season 10, so it’s an even bigger shift from Respawn. Why the switch from Season 10 introducing the change to it now coming in Season 11 is anyone’s guess, but it also seemingly signals an increase in events moving forward. It also remains to be seen if items released prior to Season 11 will be available once again, or if Respawn will make items from the first 10 seasons completely untouchable.

  • Apex Legends beats Fortnite and more on PlayStation in 2019 – Dexerto

Apex Legends beats Fortnite and more on PlayStation in 2019 Respawn Entertainment have done the unexpected by dethroning Epic Games’ Fortnite with Apex Legends as the most downloaded free-to-play game on PS4. After launching with next to no warning in February 2019, Apex Legends took the gaming world by storm. Players were flooding EA’s servers to try their hand at Respawn’s entry in the battle royale realm. Ever since, Apex Legends has grown from strength-to-strength, having recently clocked in their most successful month post-launch. And after less than a year of mixing it with the best, the Apex Games has reached more people than any other free-to-play title on PlayStation in 2019. Sporting a fluid, first-person movement system, a diverse roster of Legends and in-depth lore that ties perfectly into EA’s Titanfall universe, what’s not to love with the Apex Games? Respawn has also been keen to provide a plethora of fresh content throughout the year, to ensure that players kept coming back for more… and they did so in their droves. Season 3 was make-or-break for Apex Legends. Epic Games were on the brink of releasing Chapter 2 for Fortnite, so Respawn knew they had to deliver. After stripping away the game’s staple map and replacing it with World’s Edge, the devs took a risk that to pay-off. Considering Apex Legends then went on to have its highest-grossing month since launch, it’s fair to say that it paid off and then some. Not only that, but Apex Legends has now dethroned Fortnite as the top free-to-play title on the PlayStation store in North America. A huge thank you to all the Legends who made this possible! 🙌❤️ — Respawn (@Respawn) January 11, 2020 Fortnite topped PlayStation’s 2018 download charts, with one the original battle royales in H1Z1 being their closest rival. The story is the same on the European front, too, with Apex Legends besting Fortnite yet again to take the number one spot. Apex Legends taking the top honors for 2019 is all the more impressive when you consider that Fortnite players far and wide would have all re-downloaded their game when Chapter 2 was announced. February 4 will make Apex Legends’ one-year anniversary, meaning that Respawn will likely have something in the pipeline that will usher in Season 4 with a bang.

  • Apex Legends weapons – What are the best guns and where to find them? – Dexerto

Apex Legends weapons – What are the best guns and where to find them? EA’s Apex Legends has been available for a week now. Consequently, the player base is getting better and any advantage you can find is paramount. One way to get ahead is with better weapons. Here are the best weapons on Apex Legends and where to find them. Apex Legends Getting Harder As with all games, the standard of gameplay gets better over time. The same has been happening with Apex Legends. Good shooting by itself no longer cuts it against a superior weapon and armor. Therefore, it’s imperative to give yourself the best chance of winning a gunfight. The best way to do this is by finding the best guns on the game. What are the Best Guns? With the intention of keeping this information concise, the best gun from each type will be highlighted. This list is by no means definitive as different players have different styles which result in varying choices. However, the following guns are generally considered the better weapons in Apex Legends. Read More: Full weapons guide for Apex Legends – Before we list the best gun in each class, here are the two best weapons on the game. Naturally, both are only available in air drops. Other guns are found throughout King’s Canyon (the Apex Legends map). Shotgun – Mastiff Simply put, the Mastiff is devastating. Per pellet the Mastiff does 18 damage to the body and 36 to the head. Respectively, if all pellets hit the target this will cause 144 and 288 damage. This is enough to one shot an opponent to the body if they only one bar of armor and will always kill an enemy to the head. It comes with 16 rounds of ammo. Sniper – Kraber For those who have yet to experience the Kraber, think of PUBG’s AWM. It does an often deadly 125 damage to the body and 250 to the head. If you’re accurate with it, then you’re going to win the fight. Unsurprisingly, the Kraber has the best damage stats in King’s Canyon. The gun comes with a 6x-10x variable optic by default. Beware though, it only comes with eight bullets, so use them wisely! LMG – Spitfire The spitfire’s decent rate of fire, along with a sizeable 20 and 40 damage to the body and head, make it a good all round weapon. In comparison to the other LMG, the Devotion, it uses heavy ammo and has 35 in a clip (Devotion has 44). The high DPS of 80, coupled with lower bullet drop because of the ammo, means it’s relatively effective at both long and short range. SMG – Prowler Burst Essentially the best SMG comes down to whether you prefer automatic or burst fire. If you’re proficient with a burst weapon, then the Prowler is going to be effective for you. Its five-round burst means if you are accurate then enemies are going to struggle to beat you. Unfortunately the recoil after each burst is pretty substantial. Nevertheless, without this kick back the gun would be overpowered. Assault Rifle – Hemlock Burst Another burst weapon, so it may not suit some players. If you can handle, or even like a burst weapon, then this is arguably the best AR. Much like other burst weapons, this gun rewards accuracy. In comparison to the SMG Prowler burst weapon, it also has less recoil and an increased multiplier for headshots. Assault Rifle – R-301 More so than the other types of gun, the best assault rifle comes down to gameplay style and opinion. The R-301 offers a good blend of mobility and ease of use. While the damage may be on the weaker side, its low recoil and the fact it utilizes light ammo makes it a basic, yet solid gun. For those who are new to the game and need a gun to pick up and use without hassle, the R-301 is the best gun for you. Sniper – Triple Take As the Kraber is so rare, a lot of Apex Legends players will be wondering what the best sniper rifle alternative is. In terms of damage, which is primarily what a sniper rifle is judged on, it’s the Triple Take. It has a magazine size of five, so not large but does provide a hefty 69 and 138 damage to the body and head. This is another gun that will pay dividends if you’re accurate. Another minor downside of the weapon is its use of energy armor which is slightly harder to come by.

  • When does the Apex Legends battle pass release? Date, contents and more – Dexerto

When does the Apex Legends battle pass release? Date, contents and more Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends has captivated fans since its February 4 release and now they’re gearing up for the launch of the game’s first piece of major content – a battle pass. The free-to-play battle royale game has swept across the gaming landscape like wildfire, picking up over 25 million players within the first two weeks of release. The popularity of the game shows no signs of slowing down as Respawn continue to address issues that arise in the game – ranging from something as small as an annoying in-game bug to banning over 16,000 cheaters. While information regarding the battle pass is scarce, here’s everything we know right now. What’s in the Battle Pass? It has already been confirmed that Respawn will release a battle pass system for Apex Legends, similar to Epic Games’ handling of Fortnite, when its first season of new content releases in March. Players who purchase the battle pass will be entailed to exclusive cosmetic items and Apex Packs, where the cosmetic items will have a seasonal theme to them. It’s quite likely that new cosmetics will entail some things like new banners, voice lines and skins for each of the game’s legends – giving fans more ways to customize their favorite characters. Here’s the roadmap for what’s coming to Apex Legends in 2019. pic.twitter.com/iOle3XTQoG — Apex Legends News (@TitanfallBlog) February 4, 2019 When is it coming out? Respawn announced their year one roadmap shortly after the game’s release. However, they didn’t give any details about set dates for new additional content. All we know is that March will mark the beginning of Season One. What we do know, though, is that the second season will happen in March while season’s three and four will be released in September and December respectively. How much will it cost? It’s a good question, but again, information is light on the ground and only Respawn knows what the pricing will look like. The pricing of the battle pass will depend on what is set to be released via the add-on system, so it remains to be seen. What else is coming? In a recent game update blog post, Respawn confirmed that new Legends will be added to the game when season one kicks off. Thankfully, for players who don’t purchase the battle pass, they won’t be locked behind any sort of paywall and the game will be accessible for all.

  • Apex Legends Battle Armor Event announced: schedule, format, more – Dexerto

Apex Legends Battle Armor Event announced: schedule, format, more Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment have announced the next event in Apex Legends: the Battle Armor limited-time mode that will offer a twist on body shields every few days. With Season 4 slowly starting to end in Apex Legends, developers Respawn Entertainment have planned one last hoorah before they flip the page to Season 5. Starting on Tuesday, April 28, this new Battle Armor Event, which takes place on the World’s Edge map, is a 14-day LTM that will rotate the different types of body shields available in the game. The way it will work is that during each rotation, only one type of armor will be available, and players will already have it equipped when they drop into the match, along with a P2020 pistol. The catch is that all of the body shields will be removed from the loot pool; everything else, including shield cells, batteries, and all other types of loot will still be available except for armor. Here is the rotation schedule for this LTM: Tuesday, April 28 @ 10am PDT – Saturday, May 2nd @ 10am PDT: Level 1 (White) armor only. – Saturday, May 2 @ 10:01 am PDT – Wednesday, May 6 @ 10am PDT: Level 2 (Blue) armor – Wednesday, May 6 @ 10:01am PDT – Saturday, May 9 @ 10am PDT: Level 3 (Purple) armor. – Saturday, May 9 @ 10:01 am PDT – Tuesday, May 12th @ 10am PDT: Evo Armor – “Throughout the last year, we’ve heard many fun ideas from our fans about different ways to play Apex Legends,” said Jason McCord, Design Director of Apex Legends. “One of my favorites has been suggested countless times, and even more so when we introduced the Evo Shields in The System Override Event.” McCord offered a piece of advice for that fourth and final rotation, the one with Evo Armor, saying that players should try and get aggressive early so they don’t fall behind upgrading their shield: “And if you want a pro-tip from me: get in fights early, or you’ll be left limping into the final circle with Level 1 armor!” On top of all that, everyone who manages a top-five finish “across all modes during this phase” will receive additional double Level XP. The Design Director also revealed that this Body Armor Event is the first stage of experimentation on the developers’ part with the core gameplay of Apex Legends, and that similar LTMs with twists will be released in Season 5. Speaking of which, Respawn have also delayed Season 5 by an extra week in order to not only accommodate this event, but to also give players a chance to rank up their Battle Pass even higher. The new season will kick off on Tuesday, May 12.

  • Apex Legends Battle Armor event update: new limited-time mode – Dexerto

Apex Legends Battle Armor event update: new limited-time mode Respawn EntertainmentAs Season 4 of Apex Legends has been extended, Respawn Entertainment are adding a new limited-time Battle Armor event to help pass the time waiting for the new season. Taking place on World’s Edge, Battle Armor will rotate the same mode each few days, but with one key difference each time. At each rotation, a new level of shield will be available, and only this level. For example, on April 28, things will kick off with white shield, the basic tier. There’s another twist too, as all players will land on the map with the shield equipped, plus a P2020. No new shields will be available to pick up either, so you’ll need to use cells and batteries to top yours up. After a few days, the next level of shield will take over, all the way up to the Evo Shield. This event will carry on all the way to May 12, which is the new start date for Season 5. The final phase, starting on May 9, will also have Double level XP on offer for all top 5 finishes. The mode will rotate at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST on each given day: Battle Armor LTM schedule April 28 – Level 1 (White) armor only. – May 2 – Level 2 (Blue) armor – May 6 – Level 3 (Purple) armor. – May 9 – Evo Armor – Respawn have confirmed that this event is “just one way we are going to start experimenting with the core gameplay of Apex Legends, and we’re excited to introduce even more twists in Season 5 and beyond.” When is the Battle Armor event update? The update will go live on April 28 at approximately 10 am PT/1 pm ET/6 pm BST on all platforms. While the season is extended for a week, all challenges will still be available to complete, and you can keep grinding in Ranked Mode for the next level. Also, if you’ve not completed the Season 4 battle pass, now is your chance. Players have been suggesting that dropping in with a P2020 pistol could be made permanent in regular modes too. This has possibly been inspired by Call of Duty’s Warzone, which drops players in with two armor plates and a pistol by default.

  • Apex Legends player argues one Battle Pass change is worse than the price – Dexerto

Apex Legends player argues one Battle Pass change is worse than the price EAAccording to some Apex Legends players, price changes aren’t the biggest issue with the controversial Battle Pass update. Ahead of Season 22’s debut in August, Respawn unveiled a litany of Battle Pass changes that enraged the Apex Legends community. These changes split the Battle Pass into two parts, meaning two separate passes will feature 60 tiers each instead of the standard 110 levels. Respawn and EA further altered the original pricing structure, so each half-season Premium pass now costs $10 a pop. Worst still, players will no longer be able to purchase passes with Apex Coins. A contingent of fans review-bombed Apex on Steam shortly after the news went live, with many user reviews blasting the price-related adjustments. However, one player argues pricing hardly counts as the update’s worst offense. “The time limitations are the worst thing about the new BP,” wrote Reddit user McManus26. The Redditor shared their frustration that Apex Legends Season 22 and onward will “increase the already tiring FOMO of the battle pass.” Casual players who struggle to finish the pass before its end date will have to contend with stricter time limits while being forced to play characters and use weapons they don’t like just to complete challenges. Since seasons usually last three months, the split season approach means players will have a fraction of that time to grind through 60 tiers worth of Battle Pass content. The user continued, “The average playtime needed to complete the BP has actually increased, and despite the BP now being a premium-only item, the chances of not finishing it and having items you paid for be taken away is higher than before.” One person in the replies noted that fans have felt this way for a long time, as some believe paying real money should mean they get to “complete the battle pass on my [their] time.” Others said they just want adjustments to the “tedious” challenges typically in Battle Passes. Not everyone agreed, though, with some in the thread saying the pricing overhaul remains the most frustrating aspect of Respawn’s overhaul. Some said that only purchasing a Battle Pass after completion should solve both problems since it sends a message that they refuse to pay “the mere chance to grind.” Either way, it’s clear the Apex Battle Pass controversy won’t fade into the background anytime soon.

  • Apex Legends battle pass details leaked: Character skins, icons and more – Dexerto

Apex Legends battle pass details leaked: Character skins, icons and more Apex Legends‘ Season 1 battle pass has not been officially unveiled yet, but data miners have been digging through the game files and discovered new assets relating to the battle pass. These leaked files give us an indication of what the battle pass will include, but there are no image assets associated currently – only file names. The first set of files, shared by data miner @RealApexLeaks, show a number of files which have been found since the latest update, which are preparing the game itself for the battle pass launch – such as a ‘purchase’ button, and ‘reward’ button. As for what the battle pass contains, as expected there will be character skins, confirmed with another game file found by the data miner. There is also a ‘battle pass bonus’, although what exactly this bonus entails is unclear. Potentially this could be bonus XP, or perhaps bonus Apex Packs to be opened. It also looks like there will be a new lobby section added to Apex Legends specifically for the battle pass, what exactly it will contain is unclear though. For the battle pass rewards, one game file describes a ‘free_icon’, and another is less clear, called ‘details_box_indicator’. Finally, there is a ‘battle pass status’, which possibly differentiates between a free or paid version of the battle pass. The only ‘status’ level found in the game files by the data miner was ‘diamond’. As with all leaks, it must be noted that everything is subject to change, and Respawn could still be developing the entire battle pass – which could lead to new additions and removals from the game files. On March 6, Respawn said they “still have work to do to get everything ready” for Season 1, and asked players for patience.

  • Apex Legends players skeptical of dev’s “compromise” after Battle Pass backlash – Dexerto

Apex Legends players skeptical of dev’s “compromise” after Battle Pass backlash EANot everyone in the Apex Legends community is ready to applaud Respawn for backtracking on some of its Battle Pass changes. Details of Respawn’s planned Battle Pass update for Season 22 didn’t go over well with fans, the price changes counting among the most controversial in the announcement. Approximately two weeks after the news went live, the Apex Legends studio issued an apology and reversed course in some respects. Most importantly, Season 22 will once again allow players to purchase the Premium Battle Pass for 950 Apex Coins. Several players and well-known content creators praised the U-turn and Respawn’s willingness to address the backlash. For example, 100 Thieves’ NiceWigg said the following on Twitter/X, “W change and W acknowledgment.” On Reddit, posts praising Respawn and EA for “actually listening” have gained quite a bit of traction. Another user wrote “we won” when sharing the Battle Pass news in a separate Apex Legends thread. However, other community members have expressed skepticism. Some argue the companies likely expected the backlash and then unveiled a “compromise… which ultimately still benefits them as you have to buy the battle pass twice per season.” Wrote another unconvinced fan in the “We won” thread: “I see a lot of smoke and mirrors. [I] hate the fact they tried to screw us over and reverted just to save face.” In response to one person saying they’re expecting worse in the future, another Apex user stated the backtracking walks a fine line that keeps fans “playing and paying,” while the company pockets more money without angering users too much. Amid comments calling out optimistic community members for being “naive” and “gullible,” someone else noted that this constitutes a pattern for the Apex publisher. “EA has built a reputation on making changes, then partially walking it back.” Apex Legends players can decide the value of these Battle Pass changes for themselves when Season 22 arrives on August 6.

  • Apex Legends Bangalore Season 11 event leaked: Dates, skins, Stories from the Outlands & more – Dexerto

Apex Legends Bangalore Season 11 event leaked: Dates, skins, Stories from the Outlands & more Respawn EntertainmentFresh Apex Legends leaks have revealed that a Bangalore-themed event will be coming to the battle royale soon, complete with skins, bundles, and a Stories from the Outlands video. Long-time Apex Legends players will be well accustomed to Respawn’s affinity for frequent events, limited-time modes, and new skins to shake up the game’s formula. Stories from the Outlands have also become customary for events and legends, short animated features that seek to provide background and lore to the game’s characters, endearing players to their plights. We’ve seen Stories from the Outlands for plenty of legends, with only Caustic, Gibraltar, Lifeline, Mirage, Octane, and Bangalore yet to feature in their own. The latter could be about to be scratched from that list if recent leaks are to be believed. Apex Legends Bangalore Event dates The leaks for a Bangalore-themed event come from reputable leakers garret and KralRindo. While it does not guarantee the veracity of this information they have, in the past, correctly leaked aspects of Apex Legends – including the new map Storm Point and different cosmetics. According to Garret’s December 11 YouTube video on the topic, the Bangalore event will be coming to Apex in January of 2022. While exact dates cannot be confirmed, fans should expect it in very early January. Apex Legends Bangalore Event content The full list of content for the upcoming event is not confirmed, but garret indicated that it would follow generally the same formula that past events have. The Stories from the Outlands will center on Banaglore’s past, including how she acquired her heirloom from a pilot. We should also find out more about the fate of Jackson, who tragically fell from Bangalore’s ship in the widely known image. There will be new skins and a holo spray for Bangalore, dropped as part of a bundle (meaning they might cost Apex players slightly more). In short, Bangalore (and Apex) fans can begin to get excited for the event. While it remains unconfirmed until Respawn voice something official on it, the presence of it in the game’s files means we can safely bet on seeing it at some point.

  • Bangalore mains unearth secret voice line change in Apex Legends update – Dexerto

Bangalore mains unearth secret voice line change in Apex Legends update Electronic ArtsFollowing the latest update to Apex Legends, users have noticed changes to Bangalore’s usual voice lines. An offensive Legend and former soldier, Bangalore counted among the eight heroes included in Apex Legend’s original roster at launch. Her family’s military background, along with a commitment to the IMC cause, has shaped nearly every aspect of her behavior and personality. As such, militaristic ideals pervade Bangalore’s every move, even when it comes to the lines of dialogue she delivers mid-fight. Players have noticed an interesting change with respect to the latter, however. Apex Legends patch secretly changes a Bangalore voice line Bangalore’s “jumpmaster” line in Apex Legends received an edit with the release of the Eclipse update, according to players. Redditor SirJoey noted that instead of saying “Sounding reveille, ladies. I’m the jumpmaster,” Bangalore now delivers the same quip sans the mention of “ladies.” One Reddit user posited the Bangalore voice line’s alteration may address how the term “ladies” is typically used in a demeaning fashion, especially in military settings. Someone else said it’s possible that Respawn removed all “gendered references” in Apex Legends, possibly for consistency’s sake since character lines must address Legends of all genders. The same Redditor added that Rampart’s “I’m good, you’re good, if we lose it’s the other guy’s fault” bit, now exchanges “other guy’s fault” for “other donut’s fault.” At the time of writing, the crew at Respawn has yet to formally explain the reasoning behind these changes. But as the game adds more representation through the addition of heroes like trans Legend Catalyst, it’s possible that removing some gender-specific references is Respawn’s intention.

  • Respawn investigating Apex Legends bans “for no reason” after latest update – Dexerto

Respawn investigating Apex Legends bans “for no reason” after latest update Respawn EntertainmentRespawn Entertainment are aware and investigating a bug relating to Apex Legends account bans, which appears to be banning players for seemingly no reason at all. On May 12, many players began reporting that their account was banned after being disconnected from a match. The issues generally appear to be most concentrated for Steam users, but players on Origin have also experienced the issue. So far, only PC players are reporting the problem. It was suspected that the banned accounts may have been related to using exploits or smurfing, but EA help has indicated that the bans are mistakes, apologizing for the confusion. On Twitter, EA Help responded to one banned user writing: “A lot of players have received the ban message today and our Apex team is currently investigating this. “Apologies for the confusion and thanks for sticking with us while they look into this.” Small update: A lot of players have received the ban message today and our Apex team is currently investigating this. Apologies for the confusion and thanks for sticking with us while they look into this. -Sue— EA Help (@EAHelp) May 12, 2021 The issue has cropped up shortly after the 1.68 update for Apex Legends rolled out on May 11, so it could potentially be linked to an error in the update, although nothing is confirmed yet. Later on May 12, EA Help said that login issues for Apex Legends had been resolved. It’s unclear if this means all wrongfully banned accounts have now been unbanned. We’ve fixed the login issues some of you were having with #ApexLegends – thanks for your reports! — EA Help (@EAHelp) May 12, 2021 All we know for now is that the development team at Respawn is investigating, and any unfair bans should be overturned. If you log on today to find you Apex Legends account is banned – don’t panic. We will update this story as more details emerge from either Respawn or EA.

  • Apex Legends bans more than 100,000 accounts every month for cheating – Dexerto

Apex Legends bans more than 100,000 accounts every month for cheating Electronic ArtsApex Legends developers have revealed that they ban more than 100,000 accounts every month for cheating. Similar to nearly every other competitive shooter, Apex Legends has been inundated with cheaters for years. And the cheating tactics come in many different shapes and sizes, from aimbots and radar hacks to wallhacks and more. Developer Respawn Entertainment has tried mitigating the issue as much as possible, relying on Easy Anti-Cheat to combat the efforts of rule breakers. As such, cheaters and hackers who don’t slip by the goalie get hit with account bans. For the sake of transparency, developers have revealed the status of their ongoing battle against cheaters. Respawn disclosed in a blog post that “more than 6 million accounts have been banned since launch.” Plus, over 100,000 accounts get banned on average every month. The development studio continues to invest in increasing its efforts, specifically by expanding the anti-cheat team to provide 24/7 coverage. “We’ve improved our processes, rolled out additional capabilities, and are continuing to deploy new tools and technologies faster than ever,” the post additionally notes. Still, some Apex Legends players argue that 100,000 account bans per month and doubling down on anti-cheat isn’t enough to combat the rampant issue. In response to Jake Lucky‘s tweet on the matter, one user pointed out the ongoing doxxing issues and said that “they may ban 100,000 cheaters a month but there is probs 5x that in the game and only growing.” Others believe that while these “vanity metric[s]” look nice on paper, they ultimately mean nothing since banned cheaters just create new accounts to do it all over again. Respawn isn’t the only company tackling tens of thousands of cheating accounts on a regular basis. Earlier this year, Activision hit Call of Duty cheaters with a ban wave that put more than 25,000 accounts out of commission.

  • Apex Legends bans “your mom” comments from in-game chat with players punished already – Dexerto

Apex Legends bans “your mom” comments from in-game chat with players punished already Respawn/EAApex Legends players have found that they can be banned and timed out from the battle royale for talking about somebody else’s mom – even if they try and compliment them. Trash talking has been a staple of multiplayer games since the beginning of time, and can sometimes get a bit too heated – especially in the world of first-person shooters and battle royales. Most of the trash talk usually happens after you’ve eliminated someone, or gotten the advantage over them in a round, but mid-game trash talk is also a common occurrence. It can get pretty toxic as a wave of personal insults get thrown across the airwaves and respective chat boxes. However, when it comes to Apex Legends, classic taunts about somebody else’s mother have now been curtailed. Apex Legends players can’t talk about your mom mid-game That’s right, if you try and talk about somebodies mother using the in-game chat – whether it be a positive or negative comment – you’re going to get flagged by EA and Respawn’s system. HisWattson found this out on September 7, as he received a warning on his account for typing a somewhat explicit message to another player regarding their mother. Apex Legends insider and dataminer KralRindo noted that the phrases “Your Mom” and “Your Mother” are on the “bad phrases” list and, as such, automatic warnings are dished out if you type them out. Some players immediately joked and stated that they were going to try it out and see just how long it takes to get a warning – either in-game or from Respawn’s email system. That is, of course, not recommended at all, seeing as a few warnings will land you with a permanent ban – and it’s just not worth it.

  • Apex Legends ban wave hits hackers with bigger anti-cheat plans coming – Dexerto

Apex Legends ban wave hits hackers with bigger anti-cheat plans coming Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has rolled out another ban wave to combat hackers and cheaters ruining matches in Season 8. Developers Respawn Entertainment have also vowed to step-up anti-cheat efforts across the board, but particularly in some regions. Not unlike any other competitive online shooter, hackers always find a way to ruin things for honest players in Apex Legends. In recent months, players in Asian servers specifically have reported an uptick in hackers, even prompting some top players to avoid ranked play entirely until it’s resolved. Respawn’s head of security, Conor Ford, has confirmed another ban wave on February 23, wiping over 600 cheaters from the servers. Apex ban wave catches cheaters Ford, better known as Hideouts on social media, confirmed a manual ban wave of 652 cheaters on February 23. 652 cheaters manually/individually banned today. Am tired. Love you all 🔨♥️ — Conor Ford / Hideouts (@RSPN_Hideouts) February 24, 2021 This follows his previous ban wave of 507 PS4 players on February 10, who had been using an RP glitch to gain free ranked points. The ban for those users will only last until Season 9 though, when they will be allowed to play again. To the 507 PS4 that were banned for exploiting an RP glitch in ranked and farming free RP, maybe we’ll see some of you in Season 9. Until then, enjoy your time off from Apex and do something actually productive instead of cheating, lol ♥️🔨 — Conor Ford / Hideouts (@RSPN_Hideouts) February 10, 2021 Cheaters ruining Apex in Japan Counter to popular belief, Hideouts is not the only person in control of banning players on Apex Legends. There are also automated systems in place to catch out hackers. Unfortunately, it appears that hordes of cheats have been able to bypass these protections on servers in Asia especially. Hideouts has responded to these issues too, saying that they will be focused on clearing up servers in the Japanese region specifically. Japan is the second-largest market for Apex Legends. こんにちは To all of my friends and Legends in Japan, I hear you and am just as tired of the cheaters on your servers as you are. I am dedicating a lot of my time this week to specifically focus on cleaning out your servers. Send everything my way, we will fight this together♥️🔨— Conor Ford / Hideouts (@RSPN_Hideouts) February 16, 2021 In a follow-up Tweet, the developer also confirmed that there are “plans in place, that will be announced relatively soon, to help better this problem.” We await the announcement of these plans, but it certainly sounds like Respawn have things in the pipeline to help crackdown on cheaters even more.

  • Apex Legends ban wave hits players abusing “6-man” Ranked exploit – Dexerto

Apex Legends ban wave hits players abusing “6-man” Ranked exploit Respawn EntertainmentAfter boosting themselves up the Ranked leaderboards, a ban wave has hit Apex Legends players abusing an Arenas exploit on console to farm AP. Apex Legends is a competitive game at its heart and that means most of the time, every player in a match is doing their best to take home the victory. This is especially true in Ranked, where every kill and decision has the potential to affect a player’s position on the ladder. While some members of the community practice every day and work on their mechanics, others prefer to take a shortcut and abuse hacks or exploits. Although this may pay dividends in the short term, it usually doesn’t take Respawn long to realize what’s really going on, and that’s exactly what’s happened with the latest ban wave. Arenas Ranked exploiters hit with ban wave Taking to Twitter on January 25, Security Analyst at Respawn Conor ‘Hideouts’ Ford announced that 568 players have been banned for abusing a “6-man” Arenas exploit. It appears the exploit was only possible on console as no PC players have been banned just yet, with 466 PlayStation and 102 Xbox users all receiving suspensions. It’s worth noting that not all of the players were permanently banned from the game, with Hideouts making sure to mention that they were banned for “varying lengths” of time. Each of their punishments will no doubt be based on how much they abused the exploit while it was active in the game. 568 Players banned for varying lengths for abusing a “”6-man”” arenas exploit to farm AP in ranked arenas. PS-466 Xbox-102— Conor Ford / Hideouts (@RSPN_Hideouts) January 25, 2022 With Ranked being the best way in Apex Legends to test your skills against players of a similar level, it’s essential the devs keep everyone on a level playing field. Although this likely won’t be the last Ranked exploit we see in Respawn’s battle royale, it’s great to see them taking an active approach and banning exploiters.

  • Apex Legends ban wave wipes out Predator players abusing Ranked exploit – Dexerto

Apex Legends ban wave wipes out Predator players abusing Ranked exploit Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends ban wave has hit cheaters abusing exploits to climb the Ranked ladder in battle royale and Arenas, including a total of 71 Predator players. In any game with a Ranked system, there’s more than likely going to be players that cheat to gain an advantage over the competition, and Apex Legends is certainly no different. Whether it’s third-party software, exploits, or DDoSing entire servers, Respawn is constantly battling to keep matches balanced and fair for the community. Although Apex uses the Easy-anti cheat system to automatically detect players using hacks, it normally requires someone to manually ban players abusing exploits. Well, that’s exactly what’s happened recently, with a ban wave hitting hackers and exploiters that included a huge amount of Predator players. Ban wave wipes out Apex Legends Ranked exploiters Taking to Twitter on February 2, Security Analyst at Respawn Conor ‘Hideouts’ Ford announced that a ban wave had suspended players abusing a kill farming glitch and “purged” the leaderboards of suspended cheaters in Arenas. While a lot of these players were around the average ranks, a total of 71 suspensions were handed out to Predator players on console. 44 Xbox Predators and 27 PS4 Predators were removed from the leaderboards due to Ranked exploits. “Ranked leaderboards are cleaned of players who were suspended for kill farming & lobby glitch… Other arenas leaderboards have been purged of the suspended exploiters (44 xbox preds, 27 ps4 preds)”. Ranked leaderboards are cleaned of players who were suspended for kill farming & lobby glitch Arenas ranked pc leaderboards have been purged of all permanently banned cheaters. Other arenas leaderboards have been purged of the suspended exploiters (44 xbox preds, 27 ps4 preds)— Conor Ford / Hideouts (@RSPN_Hideouts) February 2, 2022 This is the second ban wave Respawn has announced in the last two weeks, suggesting they’re stepping up their efforts to clear out Ranked of cheaters and exploiters. While Respawn’s battle against cheaters will likely never end in Apex, it’s great to them purging the leaderboards of cheaters and making Ranked more balanced, especially at higher tiers.

  • Apex Legends Bangalore buff would be perfect Thermite Grenade counter – Dexerto

Apex Legends Bangalore buff would be perfect Thermite Grenade counter Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has come up with a simple buff concept for Bangalore that would allow her to extinguish Thermite Grenades with her Smoke Launcher tactical. Bangalore has been apart of the roster of characters since the game’s release back in 2019. She’s always been immensely popular with fans of the title and has the most straightforward soldier-like kit and abilities. This makes her a go-to Legend for players who are seeking a typical FPS character. However, some fans believe her abilities are a little one dimensional and have suggested a few buffs that would add an extra level of depth to her kit. One proposal has garnered a lot of attention on Reddit, involving a new function for her tactical. Apex player suggests simple buff for Bangalore The suggestion comes from Reddit user ZuVielPizza, who proposes Bangalore’s smoke should be able to counter Thermite Grenades. The buff would allow players to extinguish the nades with her tactical ability by directly firing the smoke at the fire. This would permit Bangalore players to push through fire and play more aggressively. Read More: Pathfinder is getting a lore book – ZuVielPizza also suggests that the ‘Smoke Launcher’ ability should be able to put out burning teammates. This would give her tactical ability a defensive use that squad’s with great communication could use effectively. This is just an example of a simple idea that adds an extra level of depth to a Legend’s kit. Overall, it’s a great idea for a simple and interesting buff to Bangalore. Often, a Legend doesn’t need a huge change or revamped ability, though just adding a small buff like this can be extremely satisfying for players. It keeps the Legend’s gameplay fresh and gives veteran Bangalore players a new mechanic to learn. Fingers crossed for those who main her, Respawn takes notes and opt to implement this change in the near future.

  • Apex Legends players convinced Bangalore’s Prestige skin is based on an in-game car – Dexerto

Apex Legends players convinced Bangalore’s Prestige skin is based on an in-game car Electronic ArtsApex Legends players think Respawn may have modeled the design for Bangalore’s Prestige skin after an in-game vehicle. Recently, Respawn Entertainment unleashed the Gaiden event in Apex Legends, which also introduced Bangalore’s new Prestige look. Dubbed Apex Commander, the cosmetic in question serves as a Mythic item boasting three different tiers. Upon unlocking the third tier, players will gain access to the Mythic Close Quarters Combat finisher. But while working their way through the different tiers for Apex Commander, Apex Legends players think they’ve found the inspiration for the latest Prestige skin. Was Bangalore’s Prestige skin modeled after a car? While playing a game of Apex Legends, TikTok user soupsniffer happened upon an in-game vehicle whose exterior design looks mighty familiar. “They really based the Bangalore Prestige skin off [of] a car,” the video’s caption reads. The car’s forest green and grey color scheme does match that of Bangalore’s new look. Plus, the car’s armored front end bears a lot in common with the headgear that accompanies the Tier 3 design for Apex Commander. While the comparison between the skin and the care seems sound, it’s worth noting that such a design choice was likely purposeful. As some replies to the video point out, Bangalore previously served in the IMC Armed Forces – one of the key factions in Titanfall. The vehicle on display in the above clip, then, is IMC issue. Evidently, Bangalore’s newest skin takes inspiration from the character’s days on the force. This constitutes a piece of connective tissue that not all Apex Legends players will recognize. Still, it’s cool to see the ways in which Titanfall continues to influence the world of Apex Legends.

  • Apex Legends ban wave catches hundreds of high-ranked players cheating – Dexerto

Apex Legends ban wave catches hundreds of high-ranked players cheating Respawn/EARespawn Entertainment have, once again, swung the banhammer and banned some of Apex Legends’ highest-ranked players in another wave of bans. Just like in other battle royales, cheaters can run wild in Apex Legends despite Respawn doing their best to try and root out the issues. Typically, these cheats come in the form of aimbots and wallhacks, and while they can be found in normal public matches, there are some players who decide to up the ante and take the hacks into Ranked Leagues play. Recently, two of the game’s highest-ranked players were outed as cheaters after Respawn’s security lead Conor Ford, aka RSPN_Hideouts, dished out some bans. And now he’s back with another raft of bans for cheaters. On January 30, the Respawn security lead tweeted that he was on the tail of cheaters once again, with some of the cheaters he was after this time being ranked at Platinum and higher in Apex’s Ranked Leagues. Read More: Apex Legends Season 8 early patch notes – “I’m hopping on tonight to clean house. I have about 240 people that are platinum and above that will be banned and will be monitoring for a majority of the night,” he posted. The announcement that he was swinging the ban hammer sparked plenty of positive replies, as well as questions. One fan asked if it was for all regions, to which Hideouts gave a simple response of yes. I’m hopping on tonight to clean house. I have about 240 people that are platinum and above that will be banned and will be monitoring for a majority of the night. Finishing my PC build right now then plugging in. — Conor Ford / Hideouts (@RSPN_Hideouts) January 31, 2021 As of writing, it’s a little difficult to tell as to who got banned. None of the pros have called anybody out as they have before, so it’s likely a group of inconsequential players. On Reddit, Hideouts explained that an exploit allowing high ranking players will be fixed in Season 8, “so we should hopefully see less in the higher-ranked lobbies.” Comment byu/scott_sleepy from discussion inCompetitiveApex Bans for cheaters are, obviously, welcomed by the community and are a positive step to cleaning the game up. But, it’s difficult to fully root them out. At the end of the day, despite all of Hideouts’ work, if cheaters want to cheat, they’ll probably find a way to do so.

  • Apex Legends faces heavy backlash from community over pricing model for skins – Dexerto

Apex Legends faces heavy backlash from community over pricing model for skins Apex Legends had an explosive release, as millions of people flooded the game’s servers in its first week – but now, it seems that players aren’t liking the free-to-play title’s take on pricing. Even though players can freely experience everything the game has to offer without paying a dime, the cost and lack of quality cosmetics have led to some troubling developments for the popular game. Throughout the Apex Legends community, players are fuming at the questionable pricing structures for both the Apex Coins and the cosmetic items themselves. The backlash comes as the new Valentine’s Day cosmetics, which include the Epic skin ‘Through the Heart’ and Legendary banner ‘Love of the Game,’ entered the Shop on February 13. While the skins themselves cost the equivalent of $22 on their own, the stringent pricing models force players to spend around $30 to buy both skins outright. Although players don’t need to buy these cosmetics, Reddit user Aikon94 pointed out the dangers around these kind of pricing models. Apex Legends has quickly become a fan-favorite, but growing issues with the way its premium items are handled could send it down a rough road.

  • Apex Legends balance dev explains how they assess Legend buffs and nerfs – Dexerto

Apex Legends balance dev explains how they assess Legend buffs and nerfs Respawn EntertainmentA Live Balance Designer working on Apex Legends has explained the difficulties of balancing the game’s characters, revealing how Respawn interprets and implements data while ensuring the BR remains fun. Since its launch back in 2019, Apex Legends’ character pool has been gradually expanding as new Legends are added every season. While new characters shake up the game’s meta in exciting new ways, it does mean balancing becomes more complex. New characters can counter existing ones, or have their weaknesses exposed by the characters already in the game. However, any adjustments can have knock-on effects for future characters, meaning Respawn have to get their balancing right. While addressing Wattson, a Legend who many believe needs a buff but Respawn have said otherwise, Respawn’s Live Balance Designer John Larson explained the complexities of making adjustments and how interpreting the data can be incredibly challenging. Responding to a graph from Daniel Klein, which shows Wattson at the very top of Arenas’ win rate, Live Balance Designer John Larson said: “Before everyone grabs their pitchforks, this is due to the removal of Low Profile. High-level assessment of something that GENERALLY holds true in this game: balance changes to abilities don’t come close to moving the needle in the same way hitboxes and damage multipliers do in terms of win rate and encounter win rate across all skill levels.” Before everyone grabs their pitchforks, this is due to the removal of Low Profile (most notably limb shots no longer hitting like body shots). Lifeline is number two on that list. (1/7) https://t.co/NVum3Vz4CL — JayBiebs (@RSPN_JayBiebs) May 18, 2021 He went on to explain that ability changes generally affect better players, while hitbox and general damage adjustments have broader impacts. That is why, following the removal of Low Profile, Wattson is incredibly high in terms of win-rates, despite her mediocre abilities. Changes to abilities move the needle more on pick rate (relatively speaking), and changes to abilities are more meaningful higher up the MMR ladder. Different types of abilities can change this more drastically. (3/7) — JayBiebs (@RSPN_JayBiebs) May 18, 2021 He continued: “While legend win rate generally follows the same trends across skill buckets, what does change significantly is the spread. At the 50% mark, win rate range between highest and lowest legends is 0.8%. Amongst the top 1% of players, this is 7.8%. Without getting lost in the weeds, I want to make it clear that we look at much, much more than raw numbers when considering changes.” At the 50% mark, win rate range between highest and lowest legends is 0.8%. Amongst the top 1% of players, this is 7.8%. Without getting lost in the weeds, I want to make it clear that we look at much, much more than raw numbers when considering changes. (6/7) — JayBiebs (@RSPN_JayBiebs) May 18, 2021 Larson finished by stating that they are still looking at Wattson changes, despite her obviously high win rate and buff off the back of Low Profile’s removal. It goes to show the level of thought that goes into Legend balancing, and how different skill levels see huge variation in characters’ viability. We will of course update you of any balancing changes if and when they come. When they do, though, rest assured that Respawn will have considered nearly every outcome.

  • Apex Legends balance dev hints at potential Evo Shield changes – Dexerto

Apex Legends balance dev hints at potential Evo Shield changes Respawn EntertainmentA tweet from an Apex Legends balance developer has suggested there could be changes coming to Evo Shields in a future update. Having being introduced to the game back in March of 2020 and later made the default armor for every player, Evo Shields have become a fundamental aspect of Apex’s gameplay. As the armor is upgraded based on how much damage you have dealt, it encourages players to take more gunfights to reach the next shield tier. Despite this, the addition and balance of Evo Shields have been debated since their release, with some players preferring the game’s previous armor system. Now, after the release of Starter Kits in Season 9, a tweet from a Respawn dev has suggested there could be even more Evo Shield balance changes on the way. Apex Legends dev hints at Evo Shield changes When it comes to in-game changes in Apex Legends, it’s not uncommon to see Respawn developers asking the community for their opinion on the matter. Well, a Respawn balance dev has done exactly that, asking players whether they think Evo Shields need any balance changes. The dev raises a number of potential issues, including too many red shields at endgame, the amount of damage needed to reach each new tier, and whether Evo Shields feel balanced in ranked. As mentioned in the tweet, it’s obvious Respawn has a clear idea of what changes they think need to be made, it’s just a question of whether the community agrees. Any thoughts on Evo Armor balance in a world with Starter Kits? I have mine; curious for yours. Amount of damage needed for each level? Too many red shields end-game? Purple/red vs. gold? Do you consciously level up Evo or shield swap without a second thought? Pubs vs. ranked?— JayBiebs (@RSPN_JayBiebs) June 8, 2021 The resounding response to the tweet was that Evo Shields are in a good spot at the moment and don’t need to receive any changes. Alliance pro player John ‘Hakis’ Hakansson even responded to the tweet, voicing that armor is balanced at the moment, but backpacks are still an issue. Armors are really well balanced atm, the biggest problem is still backpacks I still think we should spawn with white bag aswell to up the lootpool again. I armor swap all the time especially if it’s an intense fight I never care about the color of the armor unless I’m minmaxin — Alliance Hakis (@Alliance_Hakis) June 8, 2021 It’s clear that the majority of the community believes that Evo Shields are balanced in the current meta, despite Respawn hinting that changes may be on the way. We’ll have to see if the developers listen to the feedback of the player base, or still opt to make some tweaks to the armor.

  • Who is Ballistic in Apex Legends? Ballistic’s Abilities, release date, lore – Dexerto

Who is Ballistic in Apex Legends? Ballistic’s Abilities, release date, lore Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has finally revealed Ballistic as the new legend joining in Season 17, but who is he and what are his abilities? Here’s everything we know about Ballistic in Apex Legends. Season 16 of Apex Legends didn’t add a new Legend, and instead completed an overhaul of the Legend classes. But, Respawn assured players that a new Legend would be added on Season 17, and it’s now been confirmed as Ballistic, an older character who is joining in place of his son. But, who is Ballistic in Apex Legends? Here’s everything we know so far. Ballistic revealed in Apex Legends Season 17 First revealed in the Stories from the Outlands trailer, Ballistic’s real name is August Montgomery Brinkman. He’s a 63-year-old veteran of the games, competing as a younger man in the ‘Thunderdome Games’ – the precursor to Apex. He later retired and became a recluse, after his brother-in-law died in the games, and Ballistic blamed himself and his arrogant ways. But, when he discovered his son was set to join the Apex games, Ballistic took his place, vowing that if he was allowed to compete, his son would never be permitted to join. This was much to the anger of his son, Nathaniel, but Ballistic believes he’s doing the right thing. Ballistic’s abilities in Apex Legends In the gameplay trailer, we got a first look at Ballistic’s abilities in action. These abilities have since been revealed, showcasing Ballistic’s prowess as the newest Assault character to join Apex Legends. Ballistic’s abilities are as follows: Passive – Sling Store a third weapon in the sling. Access via inventory or character utility action. The sling weapon cannot take attachments. Tactical – The Whistler Shoots a projectile that heats up an enemy’s gun as they shoot. Overheating causes damage. Hold the Tactical ability to lock-on. If the bullet misses the target, it will remain in the world and create a zone that will apply the same overheat debuff to any enemy who walks into it. Ultimate – The Tempest Nearby teammates get faster reloads, faster armed move speed, and infinite ammo. The weapon in Ballistic’s Sling will also be upgraded to gold. When will Ballistic release in Apex Legends? Ballistic will release on May 9, 2023 with Season 17 of Apex Legends. There is no new map for this season, instead, World’s Edge is being updated. Alongside this, the firing range is receiving a major update, and ranked will be completely revamped. It will be interesting to see how Ballistic fits into the meta, and whether he needs buffed or nerfed shortly after release.

  • Apex Legends Ash mains double-down on buff demands – Dexerto

Apex Legends Ash mains double-down on buff demands Respawn EntertainmentDespite only being added in Apex Legends Season 11, Ash mains feel like they’ve been left behind and are doubling down on their pleas for a buff to the Incisive Instigator. Ash was the 19th entry to the Apex Legends roster when she debuted in November 2021 alongside the Storm Point map. While she saw a decent amount of play in the early days following release, she’s never quite been a dominant add-on to the roster. There has already been one wave of players calling for a buff to their favorite aggressive simulacrum this year and it looks like that trend has returned yet again in Season 15. Check out the best Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals on Amazon Ash mains plead for buff to Tactical ability in Season 15 The renewed push for a buff mostly built up around a concept for her Tactical ability, which is what many consider to be the weakest part of her kit. This new design would see her signature snare not only do some more damage but also neutralize enemies and stop them from using their abilities if they’re caught inside. While not everyone could agree that this was the right way to go around a potential buff, it was unanimous that something needs to change if she’s ever going to be viable in the future. “The simplest buff would be to make it move faster and deploy faster,” one fan noted. “Anyone can see that thing coming a mile away.” There haven’t been many Legend buffs or nerfs to speak of in Season 15 but it’s apparent that fans are more than ready for Ash to get pulled out of her relative obscurity thanks to a 3.1% pick rate. • Apex Legends Ash mains want a Mad Maggie-style buff in Season 15 – Dexerto

Apex Legends Ash mains want a Mad Maggie-style buff in Season 15 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling for a Season 15 buff to Ash that would make her tactical ability operate more like Mad Maggie’s after seeing the Rebel Warlord’s pick rate skyrocket. Ash is Apex’s Incisive Instigator for a reason. Her kit focuses on hunting down enemies and trapping them in precarious situations, making them easy pickings for aggressive teams. One of the main ways she is able to do that is through her tactical, which slows players down and binds them within its area of effect. However, this ability does take a while to throw and makes her nearly useless until it is out of her hands, so players have come up with some alternate ways to make it more viable, and they’re using Maggie for inspiration. Apex Legends Ash players call for Mad Maggie-style buff in Season 15 The primary idea is to make Ash’s snare move faster en route to its location. Doing this reduces the amount of time that a player is defenseless after throwing it. “A speed buff would be nice, it only does 20 damage on its own so it would still reward good gameplay and followups,” one Reddit commenter suggested. This is the same school of thought that went into buffing the aforementioned Rebel Warlord’s drill last season, which made her significantly more viable according to the pick charts. Another idea is to embrace an even-newer philosophy and give Ash a second charge of the ability so that she might keep up with (or even match) Catalyst’s ability to control an area and deny movement for opposing squads. While the latter choice doesn’t fix the amount of time that she would be vulnerable while using her tactical, it would at least give her a utility post that could salve the wound enough for players not to care. On the other hand, another fan thinks the devs could lean even more into Maggie’s kit and make Ash’s ability a one-handed toss, meaning that she could still fire back while trying to ensnare her prey: “It would be really good (maybe too good?) in close quarters combat if so, but it does need some kind of buff. “

  • Apex Legends Ash trailer pays tribute to Titanfall 2 origin, and players love it – Dexerto

Apex Legends Ash trailer pays tribute to Titanfall 2 origin, and players love it Respawn EntertainmentThe new Apex Legends Stories from the Outlands trailer gave fans a fresh perspective for a classic Titanfall 2 scene featuring Ash, and players are loving it. Respawn Entertainment are bringing the former Apex Predator lieutenant, Ash, to the battle royale. The company gave the Simulacrum her own Stories from the Outlands, named ‘Ashes to Ash’, to signal her inevitable release. In that video was a brief remake of the cinematic that played after defeating Ash and completing the Titanfall 2 mission ‘Into The Abyss.’ Not only did the video provide a crucial update to Ash’s story that paves the way for Apex Legends debut, but it also gave the iconic moment a modern-day update. “Ashes to Ash” cinematic ties back to Titanfall 2 scene Ash’s final moment in Titanfall 2 was recreated from a new perspective to drive the narrative for Apex Legends’ new Stories from the Outlands. There was a clip showing the character getting ripped out from a Titan and getting crushed before falling to her fiery doom. The Apex community was quick to point out the similarities between the Apex Legends cinematic and the TF2 call back, and they loved it. “This is the first time we see BT and Jack in action during anything Apex Legends related,” one user said. “Even if it’s just a flashback I’m still grateful the devs didn’t forget about them like they did Titanfall 2.” “This is getting freaking epic. Glad to see a little more Titanfall in Apex,” another said. Ash getting executed. Titanfall 2 campaign vs “”Ashes to Ash”” Stories from the Outlands.#ApexLegends pic.twitter.com/yq6203SdR3— Mokey (@mokeysniper) October 18, 2021 People noticed the obvious update that the Stories from the Outlands trailer made to Ash’s sequence from the TF2 cutscene. In the original, Ash is crushed into an era-appropriate visual of red mist. The Apex Legends trailer instead shows her body being crushed and her upper body falling. It’s a slight deviation from the original, and one that many Apex Legends fans might appreciate since it clears up how Ash can appear in the battle royale for Season 11.

  • Apex Legends audio bug could explain bad game sound issues – Dexerto

Apex Legends audio bug could explain bad game sound issues Respawn EnterteinmentA major sound-bug has been found in Apex Legends which enables every player to hear any healing sounds from across the map. [jwplayer OXyCJ7sp] The bizarre glitch was found by Reddit user ‘u/mnkymnk’ and demonstrated in a video posted on the game’s subreddit. His demonstration showed him and two other players deploying on the map and moving to a distance of 300 from each other. After increasing his in-game and system volume levels to 100 percent, he could hear the sounds of the two players healing. More tests by the user proved that this specific audio cue can even be heard by players at a distance of 700 meters! His hypothesis was that either Apex plays every healing (and shielding) sound to every single player on the map, or that healing sounds are capable of being heard from “a gigantic radius around you.” According to mnkymnk, this could mean that the glitch might be causing other sound-related bugs as the “universal” presence of healing sounds could be affecting how other audio is being played. Apex Legends is not new to bugs of this nature, with sound issues plaguing the game from the very start. Easy examples of silent footsteps or even gunfire appear online to this day. While problems in the audio department seem to appear in every update, the sonic troubles have been noted by the developers, with promises of “significant changes” in the future. Additionally, Chad Grenier, the current Apex Legends Game Director commented on audio in a recent Reddit AMA: “Our audio engineering team has spent the last few months building a new tool… to collect the debugging data we need.” The most recent Apex update has also faced new audio issues. Credit: Respawn Entertainment With sound being one of the most crucial aspects of the game, it becomes apparent the difficulty that developers could have balancing the battle royale. Respawn Entertainment has made it clear that sound is one of their current priorities. If these planned updates are delivered, it could mean the solution to one of the biggest problems currently in Apex.

  • Apex Legends meets Avengers: Endgame in this intense fan-made trailer – Dexerto

Apex Legends meets Avengers: Endgame in this intense fan-made trailer Marvel EntertainmentThe highly-anticipated Apex Legends and Avengers. Concrete news on the Apex Legends Season 1 Battle Pass is hard to come by but that hasn’t stopped fans from getting hyped. To help hold us over to the launch this fan created an amazing trailer that takes the Avengers trailer dialogue but replaces it with Apex Legends. The result is surprisingly good as the dialogue is somehow able to fit over Apex Legends quite well. It’s a little over two minutes but it’s definitely worth a watch if you’re a fan of both Apex and Avengers. It might be worth a watch even if you’re not a fan of either of them. While not everything lines up perfectly, there’s not a good reason to expect it to since it is taking a video game and overlaying a trailer over it. What does line up works quite well and somehow creates a somewhat believable Apex Legends story. Apex Legends could very well end up telling its own story in future seasons, as we see Fortnite manages to do with its own seasons. This video was uploaded to YouTuber by user Simon Cez and is easily the channel’s most watched video with over 6,300 views at the time of this writing. It looks like the channel is primarily a Fortnite channel but there are videos from other games such as PUBG and Overwatch. Given the popularity, this one video received we wouldn’t be surprised to see more trailer-type videos in the future.

  • Apex Legends Arenas Honor system idea to punish leavers goes viral on TikTok – Dexerto

Apex Legends Arenas Honor system idea to punish leavers goes viral on TikTok Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends’ new Arenas mode has proved incredibly popular, but the lack of leaver penalties is ruining the mode for many. However, one player thinks they have found a solution. Arenas is the latest mode to hit Apex Legends in Season 9, giving players the chance to flex their skills in 3v3 round-based firefights. Although the maps and player count may be smaller than the game’s regular battle royale mode, it has proven incredibly popular amongst the Apex community. However, like most FPS games there are a number of players that ruin the experience for others. As of writing, there is currently no penalty in place for those that leave the game – in fact, players can simply quit the mode and instantly begin queuing for another game entirely. This obviously leads to some incredibly one-sided games, leaving the remaining players to leave themselves or face getting crushed. However, one TikTok user has come up with an Apex Legends Arenas concept could help alleviate this issue for good. Apex Legends honor system explained Playing any team-based game with fewer players has always been a frustrating experience, particularly when the match is winnable. Despite completely eliminating the issues of getting third partied, Arenas is still filled with plenty of players that leave at the first sign of losing. Unlike Apex Legends regular battle royale mode, Arenas features no form of leaver penalty for any players that choose to quit. This has led to many disgruntled fans voicing their frustration online and calling for matchmaking penalties that punish those that ruin the game. “I don’t think matchmaking penalties are necessarily the way to go,” says @stereoomike. “Personally, I would love an honor-based system instead. If you quit a game, you get a certain amount taking off your honor score. If you keep quitting, that number goes down and down and down, until you’re paired with nothing but quitters.” An honor system for quitters in Arenas? 🤔 Interesting idea from @stereoomike pic.twitter.com/rqGb8XlmCL — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) May 17, 2021 It’s certainly an interesting system and one that could potentially stop leavers from running rampant in Arena matches. Stereoomike also notes that this form of matchmaking penalty would also give leavers the chance to climb back up the honor system. “While the quitters are all busy circle-jerking themselves, the people who want to stick around and actually want to play the mode, will be paired together and actually have some fun.” Read More: How to increase visibility in Apex Legends – Despite the overall positive reaction to stereoomike’s concept, there have been a number of critics who have voiced their concerns. “This system doesn’t work at all,” writes @imEclpse. “CS:GO tried it and for seemingly no reason you will be against spinbotters, leavers, griefers, etc.” Meanwhile, other players like @nappingbears gave a reason as to why they often leave Arenas matches. “How about they just fix matchmaking and we’ll be golden. It’s why I leave 90% of the time. The skill/rank levels being all sorts of messed up make the game unfun.” There are also those that wish to keep leaver penalties out of non-ranked game modes, with players like @blueluigi456 stating that they often disconnect due to connection issues. “It would be very unfair for me personally, and to a lot of other people who leave matches because of a game bug.” Whether Respawn will add some form of leaver penalty to the Arenas game mode remains to be seen, but it seems players are both for and against this honor system. What do you think, could @stereoomike’s idea work? Let us know by heading over to @TitanfallBlog!

  • Apex Legends Arenas mode is completely glitching out – Dexerto

Apex Legends Arenas mode is completely glitching out Electronic ArtsA new glitch in Apex Legends’ Arenas mode is making it difficult for players to engage with the shop menu. Respawn Entertainment deployed Arenas as a permanent Apex Legends game mode in early 2021, inviting players to take part in frenetic 3v3 battles. The two to three-round skirmishes may have scaled back some of Apex Legends’ signature chaos, but Arenas remains susceptible to the occasional hiccup. Last year, for instance, Ranked Arenas players found themselves combating an issue that rendered Crypto’s aerial drones useless. Now yet another error is causing problems in Arenas. Apex Legends user encounters odd Arenas glitch Apex Legends player and Redditor RagingRaptor11 recently shared a gameplay clip of a strange bug in the Arenas mode shop. The video begins normally, then takes a turn whenever the player tries purchasing certain items. For example, the menu randomly closes when the player attempts to buy an Arc Star. A similar problem rears its head when the player prepares to grab a Shield Battery. Apparently, the shop isn’t the only trouble spot. Redditors aftabtaimoor61, Rugin100, and a few others said they, too, have encountered the same bug while playing Arenas mode. And bigbon27 noted how this seemingly innocuous glitch could prove extra frustrating if a player’s unable to choose their loadout before the countdown ends because the screen repeatedly closes at random. Unfortunately, this doesn’t serve as the only glitch upsetting members of the Apex Legends community. A bug involving Wraith’s Into the Void ability has also caused quite the stir of late, leaving many who attempt to activate the tactical ability venerable to incoming attacks. Loba’s broken tactical recently resulted in a few angry players, as well. Hopefully, these Apex Legends hiccups and others will receive a fix in the near future.

  • Apex Legends Arenas set for major rework: Matchmaking, price changes & maps – Dexerto

Apex Legends Arenas set for major rework: Matchmaking, price changes & maps Respawn EntertainmentArenas are receiving a heavy rework in hopes of offering a more cohesive experience for all Apex Legends players. Featuring unique 3v3 tactical shooter gameplay, the smaller maps offer an alternative to the widespread and sporadic combat of the game’s Battle Royale mode. Debuting back in Season 9, Arenas have been one of the more divisive additions to Apex Legends in the game’s history, but Respawn is taking aim to dramatically improve the game in the next update. Instead of being a way to engage with the game’s deep combat systems and mechanics in a controlled environment, problems with the game’s matchmaking have left players loading into a lobby just to be shredded by a team of pros before they even know what happened. With a focus on rebalancing matchmaking, Respawn has detailed all of the upcoming changes in the Escape update patch notes. Every change to Apex Arenas in Season 11 Arenas Matchmaking is being reworked First, is the match finding changes – the game will now be more selective in pairing teams together, ensuring that fewer games end as complete romps of one team or another. This is paired with changes to the Ranked mode, where playing with teammates and enemies of different skill levels will now be reflected in the amount of AP you earn or lose from your games. A comment from the dev team reads: “The final calculated AP amount for a match is a factor of your current AP and MMR. It’s also influenced by the MMR differences between teams. In practice, this difference was factoring in more than we wanted. I.e. Losing a match you were slightly favored to win was giving a bigger AP loss than desired.” The maps of Arenas are also seeing a significant change: “With the introduction of Encore, the Arenas map rotation will now include only the custom made Arenas maps. We will not be using BR locations for Arenas in the Escape update.” While future maps could still be placed on worlds that we’ve already been on, they won’t be based on the existing POIs that players are familiar with. This means the removal of maps like Dome, Hillside Outpost, and Golden Gardens that were added in Season 10. Apex Legends Arenas weapon pricing changes Finally, the weapon market is seeing some changes with the following items receiving pricing updates: Moz Blue 125 → 150 – Purple 200 → 250 – – P2020 Blue 75 → 50 – Purple 150 → 125 – – RE45 Base 200 → 150 – White 150 → 100 – Blue 250 → 200 – – Prowler Base 500 → 400 – Blue 300 → 350 – Purple 400 → 350 – – R99 Base 500 → 450 – Blue 250 → 300 – Purple 300 → 350 – – Hemlok Base 500 → 450 – – These changes might not restore Arenas’ popularity overnight, but it looks like Respawn are committed to revitalizing the game mode in the next season.

Arenas Materials The first step of spending well in Arenas is know what you’re spending. You will need to use materials to purchase weapons, attachments, abilities, throwables, and healing. The number of materials you have depends on what round it is, how many you saved from the previous round, kills you got in the previous round, and any you collected from canisters. Round bonus: Increases each round – Kills: 75 materials – Canister: 200 materials – Clearly, canisters providing 200 materials is a massive bonus – almost as many as getting three kills. So, one player on the team should always make it a priority to head to a material canister and get a 200 bonus. You won’t keep anything you bought in previous rounds. When in the shop, you can immediately refund anything you’ve bought if you change your mind, but after the shop is closed, you’re stuck with your choices. What to buy in Arenas Weapons Obviously, the main purpose of the shop is to get a better weapon. By default, you will have either a P2020 or a Mozambique – clearly not ideal weapons for most scenarios. Round One Round One is a crucial round that needs special attention. When you have limited materials, and are up against level 1 shields, there are two options we would recommend: RE45: 250m – Peacekeeper: 500m – We’d recommend going with an RE45 most of the time. When up against level 1 shields, it’s more than capable of tearing through opponents, and will give you a very solid all-round weapon for only 250 materials. With the money saved, you’ll be able to load up on a shield battery or an ability charge. The other option would be the more expensive Peacekeeper. Spending the full 500 won’t leave you with much left over, but if you know you can hit your shots with this weapon, its power will be deadly against enemies with level 1 shield. Later rounds After round one, your options should open up a bit – provided you’re getting at least one 200 materials bonus from a canister, and getting at least a kill or two. This is when your playstyle will determine what guns you choose, but we still have a few favorites. Best SMG: Volt The Volt SMG is an excellent choice for Arenas. You are almost guaranteed to be in close-range fights during every Arenas round, and so you’ll want to have an SMG to hand. Read More: How to play Valkyrie in Apex Legends – While many prefer the R-99 to the Volt, the light ammo SMG is an extra 50 materials, and when you’re making every penny count, this might not be worth it. Saving the extra 50 materials could help you get more attachments, another shield battery or a throwable. It’s definitely a good idea to load up on at least level 2 attachments for the Volt if you can, mainly for the increased magazine size. Best AR/LMG: Spitfire No surprises here, if you’re looking for the perfect AR or LMG for Arenas, the Spitfire is probably your best bet. With low recoil and a big magazine (even without any attachments), it’s a fair price at 550 materials (50 less than the R301). Just like the R-99, even if you have a soft spot for the R301, the extra 50 materials saved by opting for the Spitfire is definitely worth it. Best Sniper: Sentinel It’s a tough choice between the Longbow DMR and the Sentinel in Arenas. Both cost the same (400 materials), so it’s really a matter of preference. Our recommendation is the Sentinel though. It feels a little more versatile than the Longbow, suitable at slightly close ranges, and of course, if you want to use some of your shield cells, you can charge it up for more damage. It’s possible that prices for weapons will be adjusted in the future if Respawn sees any balancing issues, so we’ll update this guide if our picks for weapons change. Healing and abilities The Arenas shop isn’t all about weapons though, as you also need to make sure you keep some materials for healing and abilities. Healing You should definitely consider buying a shield battery every single round. Although they cost 150 materials, the benefit of getting all your shields back in seconds can’t be underestimated. Medkits are very cheap at only 50 materials, but generally speaking, having a shield battery will always come in more handy, because of course, it’s your shield that will take the upfront damage in any fight. You’ll almost always be better stocking up on another battery rather than 2 cells too – after all, you will spawn with 2 shield cells for free. Some spare syringes will be worth purchasing in later rounds too – at only 25 materials, you can always spend your spares on this after you’ve bought everything else. You also have the option of a gold backpack. This is more of a luxury item at 250 materials, but, if your team has been playing well, and racking up materials from canisters, it might just be within your budget. Abilities How much money you spend on abilities will totally depend on what Legend you are using. For example, someone like Bloodhound is definitely worth spending materials on, to get more charges of their scan – a very powerful ability in Arenas. On the other hand, spending more money on another Octane stim might not be as clever, as the opportunities to use it will be more limited on the small Arenas maps. For most Legends, the free charge of the ability you get will be more than enough. But, if you have a specific tactic in a round to counter the enemy team, this might not be the case. The cost of abilities are different for every Legend, so it will come down to your character of choice, whether it’s worth it or not. One method is to buy your ability first – before even buying your weapon. That way, you won’t miss out on that crucial ability charge because you bought an extra set of attachments. But remember, anything can be refunded after you buy it as well, in case you do the math wrong. Grenades Although these are probably a last resort, don’t rule out spending materials on a throwable item. If you’ve got spare materials and aren’t desperate for another shield battery or ability charge, an arc star or thermite might come in very handy. At only 100 materials, they won’t break the bank. As the Arenas meta develops, we might see more players picking up a throwable, as it could be an unpleasant surprise for enemies to deal with. That’s our Arenas shop recommendations, but these will almost certainly change over time as the meta shifts, and prices are possibly adjusted in the future.

  • Artist transforms Wraith voice actress into the Apex Legends character and she looks amazing – Dexerto

Artist transforms Wraith voice actress into the Apex Legends character and she looks amazing via Ownage YouTube / Respawn EntertainmentThe characters in Apex Legends were impeccably brought to life by the talents behind their voices, and one artist merged Legend and actress alike to create the ultimate look for a live-action Wraith. A few problematic bugs aside, Respawn Entertainment did everything right when they initially launched Apex Legends on February 4, including having a roster filled with unique characters for players to choose from. One of the more popular characters who has been winning over fans is none other than the Interdimensional Skirmisher Wraith, who has been a go-to Legend for bashing and bamboozling entire enemy teams. In honor of one of the best voice-to-character combinations ever put together, artist Jayden ‘Mizuri’ reimagined actress Shantel VanSanten as the embodiment of Wraith with spectacular results. “Really loving playing Apex Legends lately with my friends,” Mizuri said. “And so I decided to be the first person to turn the character/s into Live Action! Here is Shantel Vansanten (voice of Wraith) as one of the coolest characters in the game, Wraith!” In their artwork, it looks like Mizuri drew the VanSanten-Wraith as if she was calculating how best to ruin a squads chances of survival in the Apex Games. 600The design is certainly jarring, since looking at it really feels like seeing VanSanten in an intricate cosplay photo shoot that’s been touched up by some impressive editing magic. The Australian artist spared no details in his design since every detail perfectly represents Wraith’s attributes and makes it seems like VanSanten had spent time in the IMC Detention Facility for the Mentally Ill. Wraith has been popular among artists to recreate Along with Mizuri’s breathtaking piece of art, members of the Apex Legends community have been hard at work since the game’s launch to make unique creations for Wraith come to life. From intricate cosplays to creative fanarts, Wraith has been a popular target for fans to show of their artistic talents in order to give their new takes on. As Respawn Entertainment grows their game, more fan are bound to come out of the woodworks to show off their renditions of the Interdimensional Skirmisher, and if they’re anything like what’s released so far then keep them coming.

  • Apex Legends August 20 patch notes: Devotion nerf, Rampart fixes, more – Dexerto

Apex Legends August 20 patch notes: Devotion nerf, Rampart fixes, more Respawn EntertainmentRespawn are pushing a new update for Apex Legends that’s going to address a few bugs with Rampart while also nerfing the Devotion after its transition to being available as ground loot. Apex Legends Season 6 is jam-packed with new content that’s been generally keeping its player base happy. A new weapon, new Legend, and major additions to World’s Edge have all been keeping people pretty busy. Unfortunately, not everything has gone off without a hitch. Streamers, pro players, and others have raised concerns with the now-default Evo Shields around the map as well as the overall weapon meta in Season 6. The devs are listening to the community and distributing patches as they see fit, and this time around it should go a long way to solving early problems in the season. Rampart tune-ups Season 6 premiered with a bang, as the Apex community have taken quite nicely to new Legend, Rampart. However, the player base noticed that her ability kit included a few bugs that made her daunting to play, most of which have now been patched. These included glitches such as her Amped Cover walls making people disconnect from the game in certain instances, and even her “Boom” finisher line being played from across the map. Because of the new Legend’s popularity, these issues have been prevalent in many games, so the devs are making sure to address them as soon as possible. Devotion LMG nerf The Devotion’s switch from being exclusively in supply drops to now available as floor loot had caused the light machine gun to reign chaos on opponents. Respawn are aiming to address that immediately by giving the gun more recoil while slightly nerfing its damage. These changes aren’t supposed to kill the LMG’s viability, but it’ll make the gun more reasonable to deal with now that it’s widely available. The studio said there could be more patches to the Devotion down the line as they monitor its performance throughout the Arena. Take a look at the full patch notes for the Apex Legends August 20 update below, courtesy of Respawn Entertainment. Apex Legends August 20 update patch notes Rampart Amped Wall client error in softened gore locales – Fix a server error causing immediate disconnects when Rampart puts down a wall – Fix an error caused in some instances where a player is on Rampart’s turret when it is destroyed – Issue around specific Bloodhound skin getting a stretched neck while using Rampart turret. We are still working on this issue for Lifeline’s Guardian Angel skin – Rampart’s “Boom” finisher line from playing across the map – Kill stat tracking for R-99 not displaying properly – Reduce Devotion damage [17 -> 16] , and increases recoil – these are quick changes we can make now, more adjustments to Devotion that take more time to do will come later. – Reduce number of Devotions and Turbochargers spawned – Reduced number of gold helms, gold backpacks and gold incap shields –

  • Apex Legends Arenas: Everything we know about new deathmatch mode – Dexerto

Apex Legends Arenas: Everything we know about new deathmatch mode Respawn EntertainmentVarious Apex Legends leaks have pointed towards the introduction of an ‘Arena’ mode, but what is it all about? Here’s everything we know so far about Arenas, coming in Season 9: Legacy. Unlike other modes that have come and gone in Apex Legends, Arenas is totally unique. Past modes have put a spin on the main game, with map changes, loot changes, or wholesale gameplay changes, such as the Winter Express LTM. But, so far, they’ve all been battle royale-style modes – something Respawn have confirmed is going to change, as they take Apex Legends beyond just battle royale. Apex Legends Arenas release date It’s now a sure thing that Arenas is coming Season 9, on May 4, with the in-game teaser from Ash confirming it. After all, Respawn have said we should expect the unexpected in Season 9. The first leak regarding Arena mode came back in October when reliable leaker Shrugtal pointed out that the name had been added to battle royale’s code, referencing a 3v3 mode. Read More: New Apex Legends weapon Bocek Bow revealed – A full reveal for the Arenas mode will take place on Monday, April 26. But, a number of different leaks have surfaced regarding potential locations, how it will work. What is Arenas? Put simply, we expect it will be a deathmatch-style mode. Leaks have pointed towards a 3v3 gamemode, which makes sense given Apex Legends’ general emphasis on trios in the battle royale too. Respawn have suggested that this mode will be treated as a “full game” – not just an afterthought. So, we can expect unique rules and perhaps even some unique gameplay altering changes, that differ from the battle royale. One things is for sure though – it will have its own maps. Apex Legends Arenas maps In terms of the different locations for these Arenas, Shrugtal leaked in January that at least seven different Kings Canyon spots were being tested. These were: Capacitor, Rig, Broken Relay, Gauntlet, Cascades, Repulsor, and Water Treatment. Additionally, leakers suggested that Skulltown would also return as a map for this mode, however, that hasn’t be spotted on these lists. We expect the location in the Ash teaser to be one of the maps. Also, in Apex Legends’ 100 million player celebration video, we get a glimpse at what could be another Arena, on Olympus. Apex Legends Arenas rewards Just like with other modes, there will be cosmetic rewards on offer in the form of badgers for your player card. You will receive the “Impress Me” badge for completing the Arena teaser. Read More: How to get better aim in Apex Legends – We also expect that there will be unique awards only earnable through playing Arenas, and specific challenges for this mode. Arenas Ranked Play Leakers have also said that Arenas will have some form of Ranked component, so it won’t just be a casual fun mode all the time. Whether the Ranked system is tied in with the main Ranked tiers of the battle royale, remains to be seen. All in all, we’ll have to wait until closer to Season 9 for more details, either from leakers or Respawn themselves. As more information surfaces, we’ll update this post, so make sure to keep back for all the latest updates.

  • Apex Legends players demand change for “0/10” Arena mode – Dexerto

Apex Legends players demand change for “0/10” Arena mode Electronic ArtsFrustrated Apex Legends players demand changes to the battle royale title’s often underplayed Arena Mode, with one user rating it a 0 out of 10. Respawn Entertainment added Arenas as a permanent Apex Legends fixture in a May 2021 update for Season 9. Notably, the 3v3 competitive mode eliminates the scattered chaos of the usual 20-person skirmishes, allowing players to focus on survival tactics. The mode quickly grew in popularity, though bugs, matchmaking hiccups, and other areas in need of a rework saw much of the community leave Arenas in the dust. Every so often, however, some Apex Legends faithful try giving the mode an honest chance, only to find themselves wading through disappointment yet again. Apex Legends players are still unhappy with Arena Mode Despite the community reducing Arenas to a “dead” mode, Redditor YulaiTav said they recently gave it another shot. The player went on to describe the experience as the “worst hour I’ve had in a long time.” During YulaiTav’s sessions, squadmates either disconnected from the game or paid the match no mind. As a whole, the user rated their return to the mode a “0/10.” Other Apex Legends players have since chimed in, claiming that they, too, rarely enjoy playing Arenas. Some like mrk_is_pistol argue the mode either needs a rework or outright removal. Players such as MineRaver61w and Probuzcut think fixes related to hammerpoints, inefficient teammates, and poor matchmaking could work wonders for Arenas. And many agree its return to a list of rotating Limited-Time Modes may help, too. At the very least, it’s clear Apex Legends users aren’t too thrilled about the current state of affairs in Arena Mode.

  • Apex Legends Arenas could finally be removed in Season 16 – Dexerto

Apex Legends Arenas could finally be removed in Season 16 Respawn/EAThe end could be nigh for Apex Legends’ Arenas mode as insiders have been claiming that it’ll be removed in Season 16. When Arenas was first introduced to Apex Legends all the way back in Season 9, plenty of fans were excited to get to grips with the new take on the battle royale. The 3v3 mode quickly become swamped with players wanting to try it out, but after that initial excitement, interest in the mode seemed to have dissipated. While daily and weekly challenges were still being put out for Arenas, matches were being hampered by a whole host of glitches and exploits. Throughout Season 15, players have been complaining that Respawn have simply “abandoned” the mode as it’s received little support for matchmaking or changes to the meta. Well, the first for that could be that it’s being removed. Apex Legends insiders claim Arenas mode will be removed in Season 16 That’s right, according to a handful of insiders – including ThordanSmash and Grrt – Arenas is apparently departing in Season 16. “What I did hear was, however, is that they are looking to add in Control possibly in a playlist to take over for Arenas,” Thordan said, noting that little work has been done to Arenas for the upcoming season. He also noted that even the most dedicated Arenas players have given up playing the game, with Ranked Arenas suffering a drop in players for placement matches. That, alongside the lack of dev support, indicates that it’s likely being shelved. Timestamp of 2:15 Of course, this hasn’t been confirmed just yet, as Respawn have been staying a bit quiet on what the new season will bring. To this point, the devs have only said that the new season will be worth the wait, given that Season 15 is running longer than usual. There have also been rumors that there will be a new weapon and legend reworks in Season 16 to go alongside the rumored new legend – Ballistic. Though, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

  • Apex Legends Arenas first impressions: Exactly what Apex needed – Dexerto

Apex Legends Arenas first impressions: Exactly what Apex needed Respawn EntertainmentArenas is the new 3v3 mode coming to Apex Legends, and it’s a totally new experience that will scratch the deathmatch itch, but it’s much more than that. Here are our first impressions after a three-hour playtest. During our session, we played three unique maps, two custom-made for Arenas, and the other an adapted version of Artillery from Kings Canyon. Despite being straight out of the battle royale map, the Artillery map was actually our favorite, with the ziplines on one side providing a very unique feel and a lot of verticality. The two custom maps we played, Party Crasher and Phase Runner, were both well balanced too, although more ‘flat’. Party Crasher is a neon-lit urban area, with Mirage’s ‘Mirage Voyage’ boat crashed into the plaza. Phaserunner has a very World’s Edge feel, with an incomplete phaserunner encircling the map. The economy system The shop and economy system in Arenas was a pleasant surprise. At the start of each round, you are given some shield, 2 shield cells, 2 syringes, and a default weapon (either P2020 or Mozambique). Then, you will have ‘materials’ to spend, and first priority will be a better weapon and a shield battery. Weapons are given higher cost depending on their relative strength – the R-99 is the most expensive SMG, almost double the price of the RE45. Read More: Who is Valkyrie in Apex Legends? – Managing your materials spent and ensuring you’ve got a mix of weapons, attachments, and healing is vital. But, even more crucial is not to be wasteful. If you want to buy your Legend’s ultimate ability for example, you’ll need to stack up materials, or forego some of the basics. Unlike Valorant or CS:GO, you won’t keep anything from the previous round if you survive, so ‘saving’ your life is pointless. However, you will carry over materials you didn’t spend in the previous round. This is why it’s very important for one member of the team to b-line for one of the material stashes on the map. This will award all players on your team 200 materials – doing this at least once per round will give you a big advantage. Fast, but tactical Rounds are usually pretty fast, as during our playtest, it was 6 players running head first at each other. But, we expect things will get more tactical as time goes on. One strategy that worked well was splitting into a two and a one – with the solo playing somewhat stealthy, flanking behind the enemies and catching them out from the back. But, sticking very close together is also a viable strategy. There are no respawns in Arenas, but you can revive. So, if you go down on the other side of the map from your teammates, they will rightly bemoan you. Best loadouts We didn’t have time to try out every possible loadout, but an SMG and a Sniper was a personal favorite. Go for a Volt over R99 to save some materials, and a Sentinel or Longbow to accompany it, and you’ll be prepared for all ranges. Shotguns are an option in the early rounds, especially something like an EVA-8. But, our favorite for round one was the RE45 – a cheap option, but with enemies on grey shield only, it’s more than enough, and will keep you some materials left over. In the later rounds, make sure to just spend, spend, spend. Depending on which Legend you pick, certain abilities can be worth opting for – Bloodhound’s scan was VERY powerful in Arenas. But, for some Legends, rather than buying extra ability charges, you will be better served by spending 100 materials on an arc star. How Arenas plays Games can be very fast, as short as five minutes if it’s a 3-0 blowout. But, we also had one match go to sudden death (when teams are tied 4-4), which lasted almost 20 minutes. The best thing about Arenas, compared to the battle royale mode, is that you can really learn your opponent. Realizing that the ultra-aggressive Pathfinder loves to push the right side of the map with a Spitfire every round, you can start countering them, and really thinking about your enemies’ strengths and weaknesses. Also, Respawn opting for a shop system, where you can build your loadout, was a genius move. The developers told us that they had originally planned to have loot on the map, just like BR, but scrapping that was a very smart decision. However, there is still a care package, which drops mid-way through each round, and the loot you get in it improves each round. Before the round starts, you can see what will be in the care package in the shop menu. Also, a great touch is that there are no deathboxes. Instead, loot from eliminated enemies spills onto the ground (just like Fortnite and Warzone), making for much faster looting. Overall, Arenas is a fantastic edition to Apex Legends. It provides something fresh for those players who have been playing the battle royale for over two years, and should also entice some totally new players to try it out as well. We know Respawn has plans to add more custom maps, a Ranked Arenas mode, Arenas-focused events, and hopefully much more in the future. We’d love to see different compositions (2v2, 4v4), or even a Titanfall-inspired coliseum mode for those 1v1 matches. Arenas launches in Apex Legends: Legacy update on May 4.

  • Apex Legends anti-cheat accidentally drops ban hammer on innocent players – Dexerto

Apex Legends anti-cheat accidentally drops ban hammer on innocent players Respawn EntertainmentOn January 13, Apex Legends’ anti-cheat accidentally sent out a ban wave suspending the accounts of multiple innocent players. As with most multiplayer FPSs, Apex Legends makes use of an anti-cheat to prevent players from using third-party software to gain an unfair advantage. While this feature is necessary and detects the majority of hackers, it does sometimes ban innocent players from time to time, and these are usually accessed by Respawn individually. However, it’s not very often that the anti-cheat bans a huge group of players for seemingly no reason at all, and that’s exactly what happened on January 13. Apex Legends players permanently banned for no reason Taking to Twitter on January 13, Apex Legends streamer and ALGS player Nez posted a picture of their account ban. With a caption of just question marks, it was obvious they had no idea why they had received the punishment. Luckily, a short while afterward, Security Analyst at Respawn Conor ‘Hideouts’ Ford responded to the tweet and revealed there had been a major mistake on the side of Easy Anti-cheat. According to him, the program had accidentally sent out a mass ban that had suspended the accounts of multiple innocent players. Was not my doing. Something happened on EAC’s side and they sent out a ban wave of false positives. Everyone that was banned should be unbanned now — Conor Ford / Hideouts (@RSPN_Hideouts) January 13, 2022 Hideouts quickly confirmed that all accounts that had been suspended by mistake have now been re-activated. However, it’s likely the ban message gave quite a few Apex players a scare. While this will have certainly frustrated those who have been affected, all anti-cheat programs occasionally make mistakes. Despite this, with so many complaints about DDoSers and hackers at the high ranks of play, Respawn does need to consider improving its detection system in the near future.

  • Apex Legends anti-cheat apparently banning players for no reason due to bug – Dexerto

Apex Legends anti-cheat apparently banning players for no reason due to bug Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are encountering an infuriating Anti-Cheat bug, which is causing many of them to be banned in the process. While Apex Legends boasts some of the best gameplay in the battle royal genre, it unfortunately is still prone to some glaring issues. Glitches and game-breaking exploits are always cropping up, but the last place issues should appear is within the game’s anti-cheat system. Despite the developers using Easy Anti-Cheat to aid the player experience, many have found themselves banned due to an unusual bug surrounding the anti-cheat software. Apex Legends players demand urgent Anti-Cheat fixes Several frustrated players have reached out to the Apex Legends Reddit community, in hopes of determining why the game’s Anti-Cheat is mass banning players. Redditor Cauliflowwer is among the outcries, as they claimed “Easy Anti-Cheat gives false positives when handing out bans. The appeal process for getting banned by easy anti-cheat doesn’t exist and this needs to be fixed.” The issue stems to a bug where Easy Anti-Cheat reacts to internet drops incorrectly, as it eventually times off and flags the players account: “My friend has nearly 1,600 hours played… Her internet dropped causing easy anti-cheat to time out, boom. Perma-banned,” added the Redditor. Other players, like BallisticWolfey, have shared their experiences too: “I got kicked in the middle of the match with an error saying ‘The client failed an anti-cheat runtime integrity check: connection timed out.’” The player clarified that they “closed the game and restarted my computer, game loaded just fine, then bam It banned me. I’ve tried to call them, I’ve made an appeal, no response at all.” Meanwhile, other players have tried to appeal their ban from the game, though they have faced hurdles in getting things solved. Respawn Entertainment have yet to comment on the matter as complaints grow in volume.

  • Apex Legends anti-cheat maker responds to ALGS hack – Dexerto

Apex Legends anti-cheat maker responds to ALGS hack Joe Brady/ ALGSThe anti-cheat maker for Apex Legends, and several other titles, has come out of its social media hibernation to say that the ALGS hack was not due to a vulnerability on their end. The competitive and casual Apex Legends community was rocked on March 17 as a massive hack was executed during a regional ALGS matchup. Several ALGS pros were given cheats during the NA Pro League Split Finals on the last day of matches. The competition has now been postponed as Respawn tries to find out what went wrong. The company behind the game’s anti-cheat, Easy Anti-Cheat, has made a statement about the hack and tried to wash its hands of the incident. Anti-cheat maker responds to massive Apex hack Easy Anti-Cheat released a statement the day after the hack, saying it has investigated reports of potential remote code execution within its anti-cheat. “At this time – we are confident that there is no RCE vulnerability within EAC being exploited. We will continue to work closely with our partners for any follow-up support needed,” EAC said. The social media account Anti-Cheat Police Department supposedly messaged the alleged hacker who claimed to use an RCE exploit to give cheats to the ALGS players. However, based on the new EAC statement the account has said that it now suspects the hack has to do with a source engine issue in Apex. Easy Anti-Cheat is an industry-leading anti-cheat service that protects titles like Dead by Daylight, Fortnite, and Rust alongside Apex Legends. The company rarely engages with social media or makes public statements as its update about the Apex hack was its first post in almost five years. Respawn itself has not put out a statement about the hack at the time of writing as only its Apex Legends Esports social media account has addressed the issue announcing the postponement of the North American finals.

  • Apex Legends appears to tease Blisk as next character – Dexerto

Apex Legends appears to tease Blisk as next character RespawnApex Legends players believe that they may have already found a handful of teases for the next legend, Blisk, even though some are expecting the appearance of other leaked legends. Despite the fact that all signs pointed to the addition of Forge, Respawn threw in a devilish curveball with the start of Apex Legends Season four, adding the spooky Revenant to the Apex Games. While players are still getting to grips with the synthetic nightmare – trying to master the Death Totem ultimate in order to win games – some fans have already turned their attention to what might come next. Although some have suggested that Forge could still appear, or we might even see Rosie/Loba, it appears that the hints are going elsewhere. In a post to the Apex Legends subreddit, FrozenFroh – who has pieced together a lot of the Apex lore jigsaw – pointed out that the next legend might very well be Blisk. Blisk, who will be a familiar name to Titanfall fans, has seemingly been teased since the launch of the battle royale but there a few more hints too. FrozenFroh pointed out that in one of the new loading screens, someone claims to be betting on ‘Kuben’ – which is Blisk’s first name. There is also a nod to his disappearance in the pre-season four Revenant teaser, where nobody involved with the Apex Games has heard from him “in a year” and that he “could be dead” for all they know. Now, of course, there has been a tonne of leaked abilities for a number of legends in the past – with Blisk having his own supposed set come to the surface prior to the launch of season three. The Apex commissioner also appeared on an alleged developer character testing sheet as a ‘future’ character, though he seemed to be way behind some legends that have already been released. Whether or not Blisk will ever be a usable character in Apex Legends still remains to be seen, but it’ll be interesting to see if Respawn drops any further hints. The developers have only been releasing one character per new season but could change course if the backstory dictates so.

  • Apex Legends April 10 update patch notes: Remove/Transfer keybinds reverted, Vantage fix, more – Dexerto

Apex Legends April 10 update patch notes: Remove/Transfer keybinds reverted, Vantage fix, more Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends received a few fixes in the April 10 update, including one for the controversial attachment transfer keybind change, so here are the latest patch notes and details. There have been a number of hot-button issues in Apex Legends lately, and Respawn Entertainment is hard at work trying to iron things out. From muscle memory being messed with in a recent button update to an entire country being blocked from buying the summer-inspired Sun Squad skins, here’s what got fixed in the April 10 update. Apex Legends April 10 update patch notes The number one thing that was addressed this time around was reverting the change to the “Remove/Transfer” buttons for attachments. In the midseason update, this was swapped from its longstanding state of Transfer on Right-Click and Remove on Left-Click, and fans were not happy about it. All is as it should be now, though, and Transfer is back to being on Right-Click. Beyond that, there was a small fix for Echo, who was spawning at the wrong point whenever Vantage would attempt to summon her cute companion, and also a fix for whatever was stepping Belgian players from purchasing Sun Squad skins in the collection event. The Splash Zone Flatline skin also received an ironsight update, falling more in line with the usual model of sights for the fan-favorite Heavy weapon. The full scale of the update is unknown since the official patch notes have yet to be released, but we will update this page with any further info as it becomes available. • Apex Legends players are getting banned for talking about Andrew Tate – Dexerto

Apex Legends players are getting banned for talking about Andrew Tate Electronic ArtsAn Apex Legends player recently received a temporary suspension for calling out “Andrew Tate cringe” in the game’s text chat. Former professional kickboxer Andrew Tate became the subject of much scrutiny throughout the year due to his controversial, misogynistic opinions on women. In recent months, several social media platforms – Instagram and TikTok included – have banned Tate, with a TikTok representative telling NPR the service wouldn’t tolerate the influencer’s “hateful ideology.” Tate is far from the only person that social platforms are willing to kick because of his contentious views. Those who openly support him haven’t fared much better in some cases. Apex Legends fan suspended for mentioning Andrew Tate in chat Redditor onyi_time recently played a game of Apex with users who were regurgitating Andrew Tate’s talking points. The Reddit user responded in the text chat with the following comment, “Andrew Tate cringe.” As a result, “I got banned for a week,” onyi_time wrote on Reddit. A screenshot of the suspension message from Electronic Arts notes that such behavior is considered “Hateful Conduct.” The player contested the decision, only for it to be deemed final upon review. Though the comment featured no hateful text, several others noted that typing “Andrew Tate” in the chat is “apparently bannable.” “Andrew Tate seems to be a blacklisted word for EA,” someone else said. Still, many people agreed the weeklong ban constitutes an excessive punishment given the context. This isn’t the first time the contentious influencer has sat at the forefront of Apex Legends-related bans. Just a few months ago, Apex Legends players were suspended for naming themselves Andrew Tate. This could explain the blanket ban tactics leveled against the recently suspended Redditor.

  • Apex Legends Anniversary Collection Event 2023: Skins & free rewards – Dexerto

Apex Legends Anniversary Collection Event 2023: Skins & free rewards Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has announced its fourth-anniversary Collection Event and as always, we can expect an update that celebrates with fresh skins and the chance to grab an Heirloom. Apex Legends was released all the way back in 2019 and for every year that the game has been live, Respawn has celebrated with an Anniversary Collection Event. As expected, Respawn is continuing the tradition for Apex’s fourth birthday, which means new cosmetics, collectibles, and fresh content. This time, the update is bringing community-designed cosmetics, a free batch of rewards, and a chance to earn Heirloom Shards instead of a specific mythic item. Contents When is the Apex Legends Anniversary Collection Event? – Apex Legends Anniversary Collection Event Heirloom Shards – Apex Legends Anniversary Collection Event free rewards – When is the Apex Legends Anniversary Collection Event? This will give the community a massive amount of content and skins to collect, so make sure to mark down the date on your calendar! Apex Legends Anniversary Collection Event Heirloom Shards Unlike a typical Collection Event, the fourth Anniversary update will not be introducing a new Heirloom to the roster. Instead, players will have a chance to earn 150 Heirloom Shards on their own. This means they can unlock any Heirloom of their choosing and gives them an extra level of flexibility. An offer like this has only happened once before, with the second anniversary of Apex Legends back in 2021, so make the most of it while it’s available. In order to obtain the 150 Heirloom Shards, you’ll need to collect all 24 cosmetics in the Collection Event by purchasing themed packs. Apex Legends Anniversary Collection Event free rewards As always, this Collection Event features a free reward track but this time the cosmetics have been designed by the community. • Apex Legends announces Apex Coin price adjustments in certain countries – Dexerto

Apex Legends announces Apex Coin price adjustments in certain countries Respawn/EAApex Legends has announced that the price of Apex Coins in select countries will be adjusted to balance prices across all currencies. As a free-to-play battle royale game, Apex Legends makes much of its revenue through in-game purchases surrounding cosmetic skins for things like Legends and weapons. While players can unlock some of these cosmetics just by playing the game and opening Apex Packs, they are also sold in the in-game store and can be purchased with Apex Coins. Now, Apex Legends has announced that the global prices of Apex Coins will be adjusted depending on the territory to better adjust the balance across all currencies. Apex Legends will adjust Apex Coin prices The announcements came from an official blog post on EA.com titled, “Global Price Adjustment Update.” The post was meant to notify players about “some price changes that will take effect from June 1, 2023.” It seems as though currencies including USD, EUR, JPY, HKD, INR, UAH, AED, and VND will not see any changes on June 1, but countries outside of those regions may see an increase or decrease depending on the currency. Notably, the GBP and CAD were not mentioned in the blog post, so these major currencies may very well see some sort of price adjustment after June 1 rolls around. At the time of writing, it’s unclear which territories will see an increase or decrease in price, but the update did confirm that this change will “only impact real money transactions for the purchase of Apex Coins.” Luckily, this means the cost to actually acquire in-game cosmetics will not change. The blog post also mentioned the upcoming Threat Level event running from May 23, 2023 until June 6, 2023, and urged players planning to purchase Apex Coins for the event to do so before 2 AM PT on June 1.

  • Apex Legends crowdfunding makes over $1.5 million for ALGS Championship – Dexerto

Apex Legends crowdfunding makes over $1.5 million for ALGS Championship Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have contributed over $1.5 million to the ALGS Championship prize pool by purchasing the in-game bundles, taking the total prize pool to over $2 million. Four new bundles were available in Apex Legends for two weeks, until June 1, with a portion from every purchase going towards the ALGS Championship. A cap was set at $2 million, which wasn’t reached, as Respawn have confirmed the total amount at the end of the two weeks was $1,580,590. $5 from every purchase of the bundles went go towards the prize pool, and buying the Animal Kingdom bundle (which included all of the skins) contributed $20. Doing some rough maths, this means that in total, the bundles generated over $7 million in total sales, as each bundle was 2,500 AC, or roughly $25. It means that the total prize pool for the ALGS Championship is now $2,580,590. “This milestone would not be possible if it wasn’t for the passionate community making Apex Legends one of the most popular franchises in the world,” Apex Legends’ competitive team said. “Despite an unprecedented 2020 that left us no choice but to pivot the ALGS to fully online competition, we’re seeing more players play and more fans watch at an increasing rate. With now more than 100 million total Apex Legends unique players, and the ALGS Winter Circuit Playoffs hitting a franchise-record 100,000 average minute audience, the future of competitive gaming shines bright.

  • Apex Legends: Is another Wattson skin on the way? – Dexerto

Apex Legends: Is another Wattson skin on the way? EAWattson, the newest character in Apex Legends, appears set to receive a brand-new skin according to a new screenshot showing her model. The onset of Season 2 in Apex Legends brought numerous new features, the biggest of which being a ranked mode. However, to keep the ball rolling well after the launch Respawn will need to continue releasing content to keep fans interested. One way to do this would be through cosmetics and that seems like it could be on the horizon. A screenshot has surfaced on Reddit posted by user Euphoriaaa that shows Wattson wearing an outfit that currently isn’t available in the game, leading some to wonder if it’s an unreleased skin. The skin depicts her in an all-orange outfit with a blue jacket over it. What stands out the most is the fact she is wearing glasses, something she hasn’t done up to this point. Whether this will ever end up entering Apex Legends remains to be seen. The various characters do have additional skins but Respawn have never been known for their frequent updates. If we had to guess, this skin would be part of a bigger update instead of just being on its own, if it’s even coming at all. Wattson has been a success so far for Apex Legends but leaks and datamines have suggested she’s far from the last character coming to the game. A lot of information is pointing towards Crypto as the next Legend but now we’re looking even further than that. The Legend that’s coming after Crypto is currently rumored to be somebody named Rosie which means we have a decent idea of what’s coming well into the future. These are just leaks and unconfirmed for right now so don’t take them as absolute fact until Respawn provides some sort of confirmation for us.

  • Apex Legends dev confirms that each ammo type has a special property – Dexerto

Apex Legends dev confirms that each ammo type has a special property There are several different ammo types in Apex Legends which offer certain advantages over others, according to a Respawn Entertainment developer. Apex Legends is like most other battle royales in regards to having many different weapon and ammo types. However, most of the other games just have different ammo types for different guns, while Apex Legends separates itself from other games by having different ammo types actually causing different effect to enemies. Respawn didn’t really make it known that the different ammo types do different things in Apex Legends but it appears that some players at least had some type of idea this was the case. Sean Slayback, a Senior Designer at Respawn, confirmed what the different ammo types currently do in Apex Legends in a response to a fan question. Current state of live game- 1) All ammo types will slow enemies down when you hit them. 2) Energy ammo doesn’t have extra shield breaking power. 3) Energy ammo projectiles aren’t slowed by drag and have the fastest flight velocity in each weapon class — Sean Slayback (@slaypiece) March 27, 2019 How does each ammo type in Apex Legends differ? In the current state of Apex Legends, Slayback says all ammo types slow down your enemy when you hit them. And while no ammo class has extra shield breaking power, Energy ammo isn’t slowed by drag and has the fastest flight velocity of all the munition types. This is all interesting information to those who didn’t know it before. It’s also nice to know that all of the ammo will rip through your shield at an equal pace. It’s likely Energy ammo just feels stronger since it will shoot faster than any other ammo type currently in the game. For a visual representation of what each of these ammo types look like in action, YouTuber staycation has uploaded an in-depth breakdown of each type. Apex Legends is a game that will receive updates over time in the form of patches and new seasons so it’s possible we could see the ammo change in the future, potentially with new ammo types. There have been new weapons added in Apex Legends since its launch but all of them have all used ammo that is currently in the game.

  • Apex Legends: All weapon buffs and nerfs in Season 2 update – patch notes – Dexerto

Apex Legends: All weapon buffs and nerfs in Season 2 update – patch notes Respawn EntertainmentThe second season of Apex Legends has finally arrived, and along with it came weapon tuning that made some changes to a variety of guns in the game. Season 2 of Apex Legends was launched on July 2, introducing a lot of new content and some major changes to the popular battle royale title. Along with the addition of the brand new L-STAR EMG weapon, developers Respawn Entertainment also implemented some adjustments to several weapons. Numerous weapons buffed for Season 2 There may be a transition in which weapons get used more often than others in the new season, as several of the guns were given a boost in the effectiveness and damage. The VK-47 Flatline’s damage was increased from 16 to 19, the P2020’s from 12 to 13, the Alternator’s from 13 to 15, and the Kraber sniper rifle’s from 125-145. The Kraber specifically received additional improvements as well, including an increase in both headshot and leg damage scale. Meanwhile, the Triple Take was also given a boost when paired with the Precision Choke attachment, as the choke time has now been decreased from 1.5 seconds to 1.1. In addition, all energy weapons have received a slight buff as the maximum stack amount of energy ammo was increased from 60 to 80, to match the max amount of both light and heavy ammo. Shotguns nerfed by ammo limitation While shotguns may not have been nerfed in terms of their damage profiles, the max stack of shotgun ammo was reduced from 64 to 16, meaning players now need to carry multiple stacks of ammo in order to viably run a shotgun. New hop-ups and attachment In addition to the weapon changes, Respawn also introduced a couple of new hop-ups and an attachment for players to use on certain guns. The new hop-ups are Disruptor Rounds, which increase damage to shielded targets, and Hammerpoint Rounds, which increase damage to unshielded targets. The attachment, Energy Mags, increases magazine capacity as well as reload speed (for rare versions and above). The Skullpiercer hop-up, although not new, was upgraded to gold tier and its rarity increased. You can check out the full notes for the weapon tuning below, as provided by Respawn. • Apex Legends devs already testing more Octane changes after Season 7 buffs – Dexerto

Apex Legends devs already testing more Octane changes after Season 7 buffs Respawn EntertainmentRespawn is already planning to ship more changes for speedster Octane in the next Apex Legends update, game designer Daniel Klein has revealed, despite the fact he just got hefty Season 7 healing buffs to “help him win more.” [jwplayer A8oCoIXs] Apex Legends’ fast-talking, fast-moving Adrenaline Junkie has long been one of the game’s most popular characters, but his win rate often lands a lot lower than his play rate. This issue came to a head in Season 6, when Octane dipped to one of the lowest victory margins in Apex Legends. Respawn hustled to ship a “small buff” for the Legend in Season 7’s update, in the hopes they could stabilize his success. The Nov. 4 buff, shipped in the ‘Ascension’ patch, only targeted his “Swift Mend” passive. His healing doubled, up to 1.0 per second. The buff had the desired effect; Octane was springboarded back into the mix in Season 7. Only, whatever changes Respawn made to the speedster seems to have broken his Jump Pad ultimate. The bug has created an “unintentional nerf.” Octane buffs break Jump Pad ultimate While Respawn didn’t notice the unintended change, multiple reports from concerned Apex Legends players have now tipped them off. Klein replied to one such report, confirming more Octane changes are being tested. “Our plan is to give you [Octane players] access to that higher arc [on the Jump Pad] by default, and let you opt into the lower arc… but maybe make it longer, to be decided with playtesting,” the Apex Legends dev revealed. “Using the jump pad normally will now [once the next patch goes live] always give you the higher, super jump arc. Crouch walking or sliding into the jump pad will give you an arc at the old normal height [pre-Season 7], potentially with a longer horizontal travel distance.” Klein also added this Jump Pad rework wouldn’t be on its way just yet, with more testing still required. He said, “Don’t expect it to come any time this patch. Hoping to target next patch (January). No guarantees though!” Respawn may also nerf Octane’s Swift Mend The new Jump Pad rework isn’t the only plan Respawn has in their pocket for the speedster either, however. Klein has admitted the healing buff has handed Octane a huge surge in win rate, and fired him straight into ‘busted’ territory. “Let me tell you, you may unironically be right,” Klein said, replying to a Apex Legends fan sarcastically joking that Octane needs a nerf. “The passive buff looks to be HUGE in data; to the point where I’m like, ‘Oh no, what did I do?’” Klein has yet to confirm if Octane’s Swift Mend will be tweaked again in January, however. On that front, Apex players will simply have to wait and see.

  • Apex Legends players discover incredible hidden animation for Alter – Dexerto

Apex Legends players discover incredible hidden animation for Alter Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players who use Alter discovered a surprising animation that “adds so much personality” to her character, something most won’t notice. Respawn placed Alter on the Apex roster in Season 21, introducing a dimension-hopping Legend who revels in the opportunity to watch various worlds end. It’s the reason for her visit to the world that hosts the Apex Games. Alter’s chaotic trickster routine is reflected in her voice lines and interactions with fellow Apex Legends characters. And since her launch in May 2024, players have found other ways in which Respawn managed to inject a bit of chaos into her personality. Reddit user octane2fast has uploaded a clip showing an interesting animation that plays for Alter after she finishes a kill. After landing a finisher, the character will walk forward and start excitedly skipping along for a few seconds. “Waa, got some serious chills from that one,” she says aloud to herself while still in the skipping animation. Apex Legends players responding to the Alter post praised Respawn for its attention to detail. One user wrote in the thread, “Apex [has] been having great animations with the newer legends.” Others applauded how well the sudden skipping moment accentuates Alter’s wild personality. “That is such a nice little touch of visual characterization,” reads one such comment. Another Redditor chimed in with a similar thought and added, “That adds so much personality holy sh**.” Apex Legends is replete with neat, character-revealing animations for its vast roster of playable Legends. For example, Wraith is known for a finger gun animation, though players have learned that other characters can also use finger guns under rare circumstances. But for now, it seems skipping after a kill is unique to a certain agent of chaos.

  • Apex Legends “always trying to improve” matchmaking amid SBMM debate – Dexerto

Apex Legends “always trying to improve” matchmaking amid SBMM debate Eric Hewitt, Senior Systems Designer at Respawn Entertainment, has said that Apex Legends developers are “always trying to improve” their matchmaking, as the debate about SBMM rages on. Since its February release, Apex Legends fans have not taken issue with a Respawn choice more than they have skill-based matchmaking. While fans speculated that SBMM was used, Hewitt himself essentially confirmed it back in November. SBMM sees players matched with opponents based on similarities in their skill and not just internet connection. Developers argue it fosters a more competitive environment, but players argue it penalizes those who are more skilled. The debate is showing no signs of slowing down, but, on December 26, an Apex player explained to Hewitt that their matchmaking has felt ‘fairer’ recently. The user summarized: “If things did change it’s working almost perfectly.” In response, Hewitt explained that Respawn’s “matchmaking gurus” are constantly working to improve the algorithm used in Apex Legends. “I’m happy to hear from your end that it’s finally feeling okay now,” continued Hewitt, acknowledging that fans have been unhappy for some time. “Please keep me updated if that feeling changes though!” I know our matchmaking gurus are always trying to improve things, so I’m happy to hear from your end that it’s finally feeling okay now. Please keep me updated if that feeling changes though! — Eric Hewitt / Ghost (@GH057ayame) December 26, 2019 The Apex community has been critical of the game’s SBMM for some time, claiming that lobbies are incredibly competitive and that it is difficult to play the game casually. “I can’t speak for pro players or complete newbies, but I’d say I’m (slightly) above average and it feels amazing!” the Twitter user expanded. Hewitt’s reply suggests that there have been slight adjustments to the game’s matchmaking systems. thank you for the context. Passing this feedback along for sure 🙂 — Eric Hewitt / Ghost (@GH057ayame) December 26, 2019 He also indicated that he wants to hear wider feedback from the community, which he can relay to the “gurus” and they can use to enhance the game. However, while Hewitt’s response was to a Twitter user relaying positive changes, a few others replied to the developer, refuting that it feels as though it has improved. This mixed reaction suggests there is still a long way to go for Respawn.

  • Apex Legends Immortal: All abilities leaked for unreleased ‘shield support’ legend – Dexerto

Apex Legends Immortal: All abilities leaked for unreleased ‘shield support’ legend That1MiningGuy / RespawnFollowing the launch of the Iron Crown Collection event in Apex Legends, leaks for unreleased legends have been coming thick and fast, with the latest revealing all abilities for ‘Immortal’, a shield support character. Currently, there is only one true ‘support’ legend in Apex Legends, the ever-helpful ‘Lifeline’, who can use her D.O.C drone to heal herself and teammates, as well as revive teammates faster with the help of a shield. However, Lifeline can’t do anything for depleted shields, only flesh damage, and so it looks like this leaked legend, Immortal, would be the character for that. Once again, credit for this find goes to reputable data miner That1MiningGuy, who has uncovered and explained numerous leaked legends, including Jericho and Rampart. Although we know the names and abilities of seven unreleased legends in total, it’s still most likely that Crypto will be added to the game next, probably alongside the launch of Season 3. But, it’s still fun to check out the other characters and their abilities and look forward to their addition at some point in the future. That1MiningGuy fully explains Immortal in his video: What are Immortal’s abilities in Apex Legends? According to the leaked game files, Immortal’s abilities are as follows – note that the character is still in development, and so all of this is subject to change. Passive: Hard to Kill – When you get downed you can revive yourself. – Tactical: Shield Charger / Teardown – Unleash a cloud of Nanites to charge your team’s shields OR Hit a target with a cloud of nanites to kill their shields for a short period of time. – Ultimate: Rise of the Pheonix – Restores your health and shields to full and gives nearby teammates 30 seconds of self-revive. Takes 8 seconds to charge. – Although some of these abilities seem extremely powerful on paper, especially the passive ability allowing Immortal to self-revive when downed, players would presumably always ‘thirst’ a downed Immortal player for this reason. Similarly, the Ultimate ability, Rise of the Pheonix, does seem strong, but the eight-second charge time should give enemies enough time to pounce and take down a team using the ability. Unfortunately, Immortal is one of the least developed characters in the game files, according to That1MiningGuy, so it might be some time before he’s added to the game officially. As mentioned, Crypto is almost certainly up next, likely followed by Rosie and Nomad, but with only one support legend (Lifeline) currently in the mix, the addition of Immortal might be fast-tracked.

  • Apex Legends: All of Crypto’s abilities leaked by data miner – Dexerto

Apex Legends: All of Crypto’s abilities leaked by data miner respawnCrypto is expected to be the next character added to Apex Legends and thanks to leakers we now know all four of his abilities, from passive to tactical and ultimate. Expected to release at the start of Season 3 in October, or possibly even sooner, Crypto was first teased in the trailer for Season 2, with Respawn giving small hints to suggest that he was the reason wildlife invaded Kings Canyon. Data miner That1MiningGuy previously found hints to suggest one of Crypto’s abilities was hacking into items placed around the map, but details on exactly how it would work were scarce. Crypto was first teased in the Apex Legends Season 2 trailer. However, since the big Iron Crown event update on August 13, this same leaker has found a host of new game files, including more detailed descriptions of the legend’s abilities. According to the game files, which are of course subject to change and possibly still in development, Crypto’s abilities are as follows: Tactical: Aerial Drone – Surveillance camera drone, lasts for 40 seconds, 200 meter range. Can be destroyed. Can hack doors, loot bins and pick up banners with drone. – Passive: Neuro Link – Crypto and teammates see what surveillance drone detect up to 30 meters away. – Ultimate: Weapon Drone EMP – Charge up an EMP blast from your drone. Deals shield damage, slows enemies and disables all traps. – That1MiningGuy also explains that of all the unreleased legends discovered in the game files, Crypto is by far the most ‘complete’, indicating that development of the character may be almost finished. The expectation is still that the character will release alongside Season 3, set for sometime in early October, though nothing is confirmed. If you’re not fully caught up on the backstory and lore of Crypto, check out everything we know from leaks, rumors and teasers here. The other new legend expected to come after is Rosie, and we also know all of her abilities so far thanks to leaks. Apex Legends Season 3 will likely release in the first week of October, but Respawn will likely release more teasers to build hype for the launch, meaning we could have confirmation very soon.

  • Apex Legends: All Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Materia Hop-Ups explained – Dexerto

Apex Legends: All Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Materia Hop-Ups explained Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends x Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth event brought the RPG’s Materia to the battle royale. Here’s a breakdown of what each Materia does and what weapons can equip them. Apex Legends’ Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth crossover event is well underway, and it brings plenty of elements from the iconic RPG to the battle royale. Alongside themed Legend skins, players can wield the Buster Sword and five different Materia while playing the Takeover event. However, fans may be wondering what each of the five Materia does and which weapons can use them. As such, let’s break down the abilities of each different Materia as well as how to find and equip them. Every Materia in the Apex Legends x FF7R event Blue Materia Like the Blue Materia in FF7, this Hop-up is geared toward support. The Blue Materia’s ability is HP Absorb, meaning when the wielder damages an enemy, they are also healed in turn. During firefights, players can see how much damage they are healing for by looking at their Legends’ portrait. The following weapons can equip the Blue Materia Hop-Up: Wingman Mastiff, Hemlock, Nemesis, Devotion, and the 30-30 Repeater. Green Materia In FF7 Green Materia represents the different forms of Magic spells. In Apex Legends, the Green Materia Hop-Up is associated with Lighting. When players reload a weapon using the Hop-Up, they will emit a shockwave around themselves which damages and slows enemies caught in the blast. The following weapons can equip the Green Materia Hop-Up: EVA-8, Alternator, Volt, Prowler, Alternator, L-STAR, and Tripel Take. Purple Materia FF7’s Purple Materia would usually increase certain stats or give Auto Abilities when equipped. In Apex, equipping a Purple Materia Hop-Up increases the wielders Crit Rate. With this Materia, random shots will deal additional damage and the damage inflicted from headshots is increased. The following weapons can equip the Purple Materia Hop-Up: Longbow, Bocek Bow, CAR SMG, Spitfire, R-301, and Flatline. Red Materia Perhaps the most iconic Materia in FF7, the Red Materia denoted the game’s different summons. Apex Legends represented that Materia in a similar way, as players can summon a Nessie companion to fight alongside them. Equipping the Red Materia Hop-Up will summon a SOLDIER Nessie with a Buster Sword. This Nessie will follow you around and seek out nearby enemies to deal damage. Should players get too far away from Nessie, it will respawn nearby. While SOLDIER Nessie can be defeated in battle, another one will spawn after 10 seconds or so. The following weapons can equip the Red Materia Hop-Up: Kraber, P2020, RE-45, Mozambique, and the Havoc. Yellow Materia The final Materia is Yellow, which usually allows characters to use extra commands in battle during FF7. In Apex Legends, it gives characters the Assess ability, which lets you see enemies remaining HP. This Materia works similarly to Seer’s Focus of Attention ability and displays their health bar above their head for a brief window after being damaged. The following weapons can equip the Yellow Materia Hop-Up: Charge Rifle, Sentinel, Peacekeeper, Rampage, G7 Scout and the R-99. How to find and equip Materia Equipping Materia during the FF7 Rebirth event is simple. Players simply need to find one that corresponds to their chosen weapons and interact with it. The Materia will automatically equip if applicable. Materia spawns randomly as ground loot on the currently featured map. However, if players are having trouble finding a specific Materia, they should look for the Green Cacticks. Upon breaking a Cactick, one of each Materia will drop. That’s everything you need to know about all the Materia present in Apex Legends’ Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth crossover event. • Apex Legends “aim resist” clip goes viral after player misses every possible shot – Dexerto

Apex Legends “aim resist” clip goes viral after player misses every possible shot Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has admitted they’re “legally obligated” to quit the game forever after missing every possible shot in a gunfight. Whether you play Apex casually or grind Ranked every single day, everyone makes mistakes and will occasionally blunder a gunfight or miss a key ability. For most of the community, these mishaps lead to a moment of embarrassment in front of their teammates and then are forgotten almost instantly. However, for one player, an unfortunate clip of their own making was too entertaining not to share and has even led them to admit that they should be “legally obligated to quit Apex forever”. Apex Legends players’ “aim resist” clip goes viral Taking to the Apex Legends subreddit, Emdoodev decided to share a clip of them playing in Arenas, and unlike a lot of gameplay posts, it can’t be described as a highlight reel. Seemingly unable to hit a single shot in the gunfight, it’s almost as if something is preventing Emdoodev from aiming at enemy targets. Everything possible that could go wrong does and results in them being downed and taken out of the fight after missing three mags worth of bullets. Admitting that they should be”legally obligated to quit Apex forever”, it’s obvious Emdoodev saw the funny of their blunder. The thread resulted in a lot of entertaining responses from fellow users, including those that encouraged Emdoodev to turn their “aim resist” off, and others that simply asked: “are you a stormtrooper?”. Either way, the clip shows that everyone can have their off days in Apex and it’s best to take your mistakes with a pinch of salt instead of getting frustrated.

  • Apex Legends ALGS team skins leaked: TSM, Cloud9, NRG – Dexerto

Apex Legends ALGS team skins leaked: TSM, Cloud9, NRG Respawn EntertainmentA new set of Apex Legends ALGS team skins have been leaked and they include cosmetics for TSM, Cloud9, NRG, and more. With Year 3 of the ALGS Pro League returning on November 6, 150 squads are prepping and gearing up to compete at the top level in Apex Legends. While the next split is guaranteed to provide viewers with nonstop action and countless highlight-reel plays, it’s clear Respawn wants to provide fans with a better way to support a specific team. This was revealed after reliable dataminer KralRindo showcased a set of unreleased cosmetics for some of the most popular organizations competing in the ALGS. These include NRG Bloodhound, Cloud9 Valkyrie, 100 Thieves Pathfinder, TSM Octane, NAVI Horizon, and countless others. While the majority of these skins are recolors they will provide fans with a great way of supporting a specific team in the Outlands. In terms of price, it’s hard to know how much they’re going to cost as they haven’t been officially announced by Respawn just yet. It’s also possible they’ll be part of a bundle when they launch, so keep that in mind. As of yet, it’s impossible to know when these skins will available to purchase in the store, but it’s likely to be before Split 1 starts on November 6. So, keep your eyes peeled for Respawn’s ALGS skins announcement, and make sure to save up some Apex Coins before they’re rolled out in-game.

  • Apex Legends: All abilities and more revealed for Blisk – leaked Titanfall character – Dexerto

Apex Legends: All abilities and more revealed for Blisk – leaked Titanfall character An Apex Legends data miner has revealed details surrounding a new character coming to King’s Canyon – known as Blisk – perhaps sooner than you might expect. With the second season of Respawn Entertainment’s popular battle royale in full-swing, the impending third season is on the horizon, and naturally, more leaks continue to surface. In a video posted on August 25, That1MiningGuy revealed a new Legend found in the game files for the battle royale — none other than the infamous mercenary, Kuben Blisk. Who is Blisk? While the name Blisk may not mean much to players only familiar to Apex Legends, those who have waged war in Titanfall will know the man who seems set to be one of the game’s next characters. Kuben Blisk is a South African mercenary, who was the leader of the Apex Predators, a freelance group of pilots who ruthlessly chopped down anyone who stood in their way. Following the end of the Frontier War, Blisk would go on to create the popular bloodsport competition called Apex Games, and has been seen in a number of Apex Legends trailers since the game’s release. While Blisk has remained in the shadows since the launch of the game back in February, it seems that he has decided to step out from his leadership position, and enter King’s Canyon himself in the hopes of securing a victory for himself. What are Blisk’s abilities? Described as an “elite mercenary”, Blisk will support a more aggressive playstyle, which may rival that of Octane or Wraith. His abilities are as follows: Passive: Interrogation — “Executing an enemy will reveal the location of their allies for 10 seconds.” – Tactical: Throwing Knife — “Deals 20 damage and marks the target. Killing a marked target rewards double credits.” – Ultimate: Payday — Squad kills award credits. Spend credits on powerful supplies.” – Blisk’s ultimate ability provides a facility to potentially ‘craft’ items from materials known as ‘credits’ — a form of currency earned by killing enemies (similar to the contracts you’d expect a mercenary to fulfill). Either 2/5/10 credits can be exchanged for an item, depending on the tier selected. The ability is similar to one of the abilities uncovered for Nomad (where players have the ability to craft from materials salvaged), but will support a more aggressive playstyle, by rewarding the squad with credits in exchange for kills. Although, the mercenary’s passive ability will provide a new incentive for executing enemies through a finishing move, given the this is rarely done due to the vulnerability that comes with running through the full animation of finishing move. How might Blisk fit into Season 3? FrozenFroh (a self-proclaimed lore expert) has hypothesized that the organization that both governs and makes money from the Apex Games, The Syndicate, is operated by Blisk, and that Crypto (another character set to join the battle royale in season three) is part of a firm whose sole objective is to overthrow The Syndicate. Given that Crypto is currently in a prime position to be revealed as part of the season three storyline, alongside the overwhelming detail surrounding Blisk’s lore and potential tie-ins to Crypto’s character arc, a showdown between the two characters might be the foundation from which season three is built. • Apex Legends aim assist debate reignited as ImperialHal wins ALGS on controller – Dexerto

Apex Legends aim assist debate reignited as ImperialHal wins ALGS on controller TSM/RespawnApex Legends players have, once again, ignited calls for a nerf to aim assist after TSM’s Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen claimed MVP honors at the 2023 ALGS Split 1 playoffs. The war between controller and mouse and keyboard players has been raging for quite some time, but it’s gotten incredibly heated when it comes to Apex Legends. Both sides believe the other has an advantage, and for some anti-controller players, that was only cemented back in November, when controller became the dominant peripheral in competitive play. At the time, the top 14 for kills was dominated by controller players, as only two mouse and keyboard users forced their way onto the leaderboard for overall kills in North America. ImperialHal, who made the switch to controller a few months back, and kept dominating in Apex, managed to climb the mountain with his TSM squad at the 2023 ALGS Split 1 playoffs, as they claimed top spot and a $300k payday. Apex Legends players want aim assist nerf after ALGS finals Hal, himself, took home the MVP award, and even gave a shout-out to his controller in his post-event interview. Though, his success has only hammered home the calls for a tweak to aim assist. “Literally the best players in the world get an advantage from controller aim assist. This tells you all you need to know about how broken it is at lower levels of play,” said one Redditor off the back of Hal’s success. “The “Just use roller if it’s so OP” argument can be retired now,” added another. “As much as players want to deny that controller is superior to M&K due to AA, this proves the opposite. Can we please nerf AA for God’s sake,” another commented. While Hal claimed the MVP, controller wasn’t the totally dominant peripheral at the $1 million tournament. Seven of the top 10 kill leaders were using keyboard and mouse, with Hal being the top-ranked controller player at fourth overall. Hal said in the past that he was “single-handedly” trying to get aim assist nerfed by proving how strong controllers can be. He might have finally achieved that goal with his MVP win as Respawn will be under immense pressure to make a change.

  • Apex Legends adds perfect new animation for ‘useless’ Mozambique – Dexerto

Apex Legends adds perfect new animation for ‘useless’ Mozambique Respawn EntertainmentThe latest update to Apex Legends introduced a hilarious new animation for the Mozambique that embraces the community’s stance that it’s the least useful weapon in the game. With limited damage and range as well as only three shots to a magazine, the Mozambique was quickly identified as the weakest weapon in the game after Apex Legends’ release. Some players even went so far as to argue they were better off with no weapon at all. While many Apex players have called for the Mozambique to be buffed, Respawn have always maintained that they’re happy with where it is, arguing that not every weapon needs to be equally viable. The Mozambique is supposed to be a common weapon to give players something to use, but should be switched out once an alternative is found. In fact, the developers are so comfortable with the Mozambique’s power level that their original response to the feedback in the wake of the game’s launch was that they simply planned to “enjoy the memes”. Now, however, they seem to have taken that stance one step further, embracing the Mozambique memes in-game with a new animation for the weapon. When players replace a Mozambique by picking up another weapon, they no longer simply drop it like any other weapon – now, they forcefully throw it away in a movement that captures how keen most players are to get rid of it at the first opportunity. The new animation is just a small part of the patch that looks to be the first step in Respawn’s attempts to reinvigorate the game after an underwhelming first season. The patch introduced Apex’s first Limited Time Mode, titled Legendary Hunt, which brings with it a series of challenges, new cosmetics that many fans are describing as the best the game has seen so far, and an “Elite Queue” accessible by finishing games in the top 5. The Legendary Hunt LTM precedes the arrival of the game’s second season, in which Respawn have promised to address some of the main issues players had with Season One: Wild Frontier.

  • Apex Legends is finally adding 4-man squads with Quads game mode – Dexerto

Apex Legends is finally adding 4-man squads with Quads game mode RespawnApex Legends is getting a ton of cosmetics and balance updates with the Double Take collection event, but also a new Quads mode that’ll shake things up with 4-man teams. While the game’s basic mode has always centered around three people on a team, the devs have experimented with changing this number during limited-time modes. Respawn provided a trailer with the Double Take Collection Event announcement, offering fans a glimpse at some of the 24 cosmetics launching alongside the event, as well as a peek at the new Quads mode. From the twisted mind of Alter comes a world where the good guys go bad – and enjoy it 😈 — Apex Legends (@PlayApex) June 20, 2024 Get ready to create chaos with an all-new Quads Takeover, Lifeline’s Prestige Skin “Apex Corruptor”, and more. The Double Take Collection Event drops on June 25! pic.twitter.com/KTIoOZuIkV Quads will pit 15 squads of four people against each other, with a tweaked loot pool to compensate for more players per squad. These loot pool changes are to ensure there will be enough ammo, attachments, and more available for everyone on a team. Not to mention a bit of a higher chance to find high-rarity weapons. There will be a higher chance of finding ammo, health, shields, scopes, & deployables in loot boxes, as well as fully-kitted blue and purple weapons scattered through the field. There will also be 15 replicators instead of the normal 12, giving teams more opportunities to get their hands on some valuable resources or two respawn teammates via crafted banners. In addition, developers have also adjusted abilities like Valkyrie’s Skyward Dive to account for an extra teammate, making sure that those with team-based abilities aren’t nerfed by the extra squad member. Rounding it all out is the announcement of Ranked Rumble, a refresh that’ll completely replace Ranked Play starting on August 3. It features a full list of changes that make ranked placement a bit closer to ALGS rules and that lower entry costs for some of the higher ranks. The Solos playlist didn’t go over too well as a limited-time mode, but Quads has the chance to make its mark as a new way to experience Apex Legends.

  • Apex Legends adds secret Gibraltar nerf missing from patch notes – Dexerto

Apex Legends adds secret Gibraltar nerf missing from patch notes Respawn EntertainmentIt appears that Apex Legends devs snuck in a new nerf for Gibraltar’s Gun Shield into the latest patch — one that wasn’t supposed to arrive for another season. We all know and love Gibraltar, the tanky shield legend has been around since day one but up until apparently the latest patch, there was an issue with his Gun Shield that gave him the upper hand in a lot of fights. Specifically, the lack of any kind of damage bleedthrough when his shield was broken. Say, for instance, an enemy Gibraltar had their shield up with 1 HP left, if you shot and broke the shield Gibraltar wouldn’t take any leftover damage from that shot no matter what weapon you used. There are a few weapons that should be able to knock out the shield and damage Gibby with one good shot, and after the March 9 Apex Legends update, it looks like they finally can. Respawn didn’t include any mention of a Gibraltar nerf arriving in the patch notes and specifically told us just a few days before that patch that they wouldn’t be arriving on March 9, but shortly after the patch dropped they did confirm the changes had been added. Lo and behold, when players logged in after applying the update, a few did notice that it definitely looks like Gibraltar’s Gun Shield is allowing bleedthrough damage now. Take, for example, the clip we’ve posted below from Reddit user andrus0n — who put it on the Apex sub after the update went live — that certainly seems to show the Shielded Fortress taking bleedthrough from a direct Kraber shot on the Practice range The Gun Shield is still able to shrug off some of the damage, but the big change from before is that whatever’s leftover that the shield wasn’t able to soak up now transfers to hurt Gibraltar, instead of just disappearing. This is a change everyone except Gibraltar mains were asking for. Even though the Legend update wasn’t included in the patch notes, Respawn later confirmed that it was intended to go live with the March 9 patch. They added that there still might be some “minor inconsistencies” with the bleedthrough, but they would continue to tweak the mechanic going forward. We’re updating the latest @playapex patch notes to capture a missed change to Gibby: 📈: Damaging a Gibraltar’s Gun Shield now counts as damage towards Evo Shield and stats 🛡️: Damage that exceeds the Gun Shield’s 50hp will now bleed through to damage Gibraltar— Respawn (@Respawn) March 9, 2021 However it managed to get into the live game, it’s definitely here to stay now. So to all the Gibraltar mains good luck, as your shield won’t provide as much protection as it used to.

Aftermarket event start date There’s been a little bit of confusion over when the next Apex Legends collection event would actually arrive. First, dataminers were suggesting September 15 would be the launch date. Things appear to have changed behind the scenes, however, and the predictions were soon pushed to October. That seems to be a much firmer date, especially in the eyes of dataminer Shrugtal, who re-confirmed an October start date. “Good morning,” the dataminer wrote on Twitter early on Sep. 29. “Recent server data appears to show the Aftermarket event arriving on Tuesday, October 6.” He added he had sourced this new date “directly from the hardware Apex Legends gets data from”. This means the early October date is more likely to be correct than all the original mid-September predictions from last month. Good morning all. Recent server data appears to show Aftermarket arriving on October 6. — Shrugtal (@shrugtal) September 29, 2020 Caustic Heirloom One of the major releases coming in the Aftermarket event is Caustic’s Heirloom cosmetic item. The noxious Legend will be wielding a heavy hammer from Season 6 onward. Heirlooms are the rarest items in Apex Legends, and you have to get very lucky to get your hands on one, through heirloom shards, or just endless Apex packs. Dataminer Biast12 has confirmed the item will be called the “deadly/death hammer” or the “lethal hammer.” Several animations have also been uncovered. This will, according to Shrugtal, include “some” Season 0 and 1 recolors that haven’t been released since mid-2019. Loba is in line for a new “Boosted” skin as well. He released these in a YouTube video on Sep. 4. Pale Moonlight Clean Breach Bittersweet Headhunter Ground Control There have also been a number of Apex Legends files uncovered that already mention the Aftermarket event. While there are no images to go with these files — not yet, anyway — we do already know what some skins will be called: Risen Queen – Forged Knight – Hallowed Spirit – Jaded Myth – Slayers Lancer – Curse of the Awaken – Finally, Shrugtal teased that there would be an Aftermarket teaser trailer released ahead of the weekend. “Expect Thursday,” he added on Sep. 29. • Apex Legends Aftermarket patch notes: cross-play, Legend changes, more – Dexerto

Apex Legends Aftermarket patch notes: cross-play, Legend changes, more Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer KEHOOBWR] The Aftermarket Collection Event is now out in Apex Legends; here’s the full patch notes, released early by Respawn Entertainment, and everything the October 6 update is bringing to the battle royale. The Aftermarket Collection Event is the first major promotional period in Apex Legends since the start of Season 6, set to introduce a lot of new content and some huge changes to the popular battle royale. Headlining the major update is the highly-anticipated launch of cross-play, which will allow players on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC to finally play together and against each other online. Also included is a new Limited Time Mode called Flashpoint, a new Heirloom for Caustic, several changes to Legends and weapons, quality-of-life improvements, and bug fixes. All of the details can be found below. Cross-play beta As mentioned above, cross-platform support is finally arriving in Apex Legends. The feature will be in beta to start off, allowing Respawn to collect data, test its scale, and receive feedback from players about the quality of functionality. Players will be able to party up on PS4, Xbox One, and Origin, with support for Steam being also available once it launches. The feature will be enabled by default, so those looking to not partake in lobbies with different platforms can opt-out. All of the details, including how it works and the specifics for matchmaking, can be found in our cross-play info page here. Aftermarket Collection event cosmetics & Caustic Heirloom As with every Collection event, Aftermarket has injected a flurry of new cosmetic items into the game, including the highly-anticipated Heirloom for Caustic. There will be 24 new cosmetics in total, all of which will be available through direct purchase or in Event Apex Packs. There’s also an Aftermarket-specific prize track that allows players to earn some new cosmetics; completing event-exclusive challenges will earn you up to 1,000 points per day, which you can use to unlock some of these items. As for Caustic’s Heirloom, it’s a massive hammer that spits out some of that poisonous Nox Gas players have come to hate over the past year and a half. On the back of the melee weapon is the Legend’s face staring menacingly back at you, because… why not? New Flashpoint LTM Flashpoint is a new Limited Time Mode that is played on Kings Canyon. Instead of healing items, the map features large safety zones, called Flash Points, which regenerate players’ health and shields when standing inside. Furthermore, the mode follows the format used in Always Be Closing – meaning that the circle never stops closing, and it’s guaranteed to close on one of these points. Players will be able to craft Phoenix Kits and Crafting Replications, but that comes with a price, of course. Apex Legends Aftermarket event update patch notes LEGEND META Rampart Increased the rate at which Sheila’s bullet spread tightens – Bloodhound Updated Bloodhound’s tactical cooldown while ultimate is active from 6 seconds to 8 seconds. – Pathfinder Grapple cooldown is now based on the distance Pathfinder traveled. The shortest possible pull has a 10s cooldown; the maximum cooldown is still 35s, but you’re going to have to swing a very long distance to get there. Have fun out there, friends! – Wraith Updated Wraith’s sprint animation. Wraith is a very challenging Legend to nerf. We look at Legend performance across a number of axes: how often trios with this Legend on them win games / place highly, how often this Legend gets knock downs vs is knocked down, how often this Legend is picked. Across each and every single one of these axes, Wraith dominates. And yet each time we hit her abilities (which we’ve done a lot) she bounces back within a few weeks without bleeding a lot of pick rate. Her kit is uniquely useful both in solo games and in highly coordinated games. Also she’s just really cool. We get it.We don’t want to hit her abilities anymore. We think both she and Pathfinder have been pushed to the edge in terms of cooldown and utility nerfs where pushing them any further would make them a lot less fun to play. We don’t want that!So we started looking at other Legend specific things that could give her this power–and discovered that her sprinting animations are unique in how much they artificially shorten her (by hunching over), thus shrinking her shootable area from the perspective of the enemy. It doesn’t sound like a lot, but taken together with her already small hitbox, it’s a lot of power. This patch, we’re introducing a new set of sprint animations for Wraith. These are much more upright and expose a larger area of her body to gunfire. Now we know her old sprint was iconic and we hate to see it go as well, but we believe this is the best way by far of bringing her in line without having to hit her abilities again. Depending on what we see after these animations go live, we may even be able to put some power back into her abilities (no promises though). As always, we will be listening to feedback and monitoring data on this change. – Crypto Crypto’s Drone can now open loot vaults if Crypto has a key in his inventory. It consumes the key as usual. – Loba Increased range of ultimate & passive from 3100 units to 4500 units. – Loba now starts the match with her ultimate half charged. – WEAPON META Devotion Increasing hipfire spread at a base level and also increasing the spread added while firing. – Spitfire We try to keep hipfire numbers consistent with similar weapons of the same class. So, the hipfire spread increase on the Devotion is also being applied to the Spitfire. To compensate, we are reducing horizontal recoil on the Spitfire. – Triple Take Reduced fire rate from 1.4 to 1.3. – QUALITY OF LIFE Loot Prompts now show how much damage an evo shield has accumulated, so you can make a better decision when switching. – You are now able to switch to same-level armor that has less health, if it is closer to evolving. – Loot Prompts will now have a small indicator that lets you know if your teammate needs this item, so you can ping it! – Performance Display is a new option that activates a panel that appears in the top right corner of your screen during a match. The data displayed is as follows:FPS – Frames Per Second, or how quickly your game is rendering frames – Latency – The time (in milliseconds) it takes for your game client to communicate to the server and back – Loss – Indicates the percentage of packet data lost per second on its way to or from the server – Choke – Indicates the percentage of packet data congestion on its way from the server – In/Out – The amount of data being sent from/to the server – If you’re noticing persistent issues while playing, this display may help you (and us!) identify what’s going on. The Performance Display can be enabled or disabled at any time from your Gameplay Settings menu. – Anonymous Mode has been added to the options. Anonymize your name in the champion presentation, obituary, and other locations of living opponents. – Level 0 Evo Armor will now appear as empty in the inventory, so you can ping to request for Armor – There are more banners placed around World’s Edge to better support Cryptos ability to see nearby squads in his drone. – Out of Bounds – The out of bounds timer no longer refreshes each time you enter a new out of bounds area. The timer is now a fixed amount of time: 30 seconds. If you enter new out of bounds areas, the timer will steadily decrease. However, if you only have 5 seconds left, the timer will keep refreshing up to that 5 second mark. This should work against people exploiting the timer, while still allowing time for people to get down if they land up there. – – Random Favorite selection added for Music and Loadscreen categories – Holo Sprays will now remember which players liked them, and will display a count to the owner. This also prevents other players from spamming “like” on the holo spray. – Legend Tokens have been minimized to a tool tip in the lobby. Hover over your currency to see your amount. – BUG FIXES General Added the ability to ping the satellite dish at Crypto’s Map Room from the dropship. – Gibraltar Fixed an issue with the bubble shield looking white in certain conditions. – Lifeline Fixed an issue with the “Guardian Angel” Skin having a stretched neck when using Sheila. – Fixed an issue where care packages would not be allowed to be placed on certain parts of Capacitor, Rig, or Salvage in Kings Canyon. – Caustic Fixed Caustic barrels from being placed at an angle on shipping crates. – Mirage Fixed an issue that prevented Mirage decoys from being pinged. – Fixed an issue that did not allow Crypto’s drone to highlight decoys. – Octane Fixed a visual issue that removed Revenant’s shadow form from a player after jumping off an Octane Jump Pad. – Fixed an issue with the Jump Pad clipping into the ground in certain areas – Crypto Fixed an issue with his drone not detecting Wattson’s Security Fences. – Fixed an audio issue with survey beacon sometimes making very little sound when using it as Crypto’s drone. – Fixed an issue with his drone not taking damage from directly below. – Revenant Fixed an issue with the HUD of the Replicator staying on screen when the totem effect wears off. – Loba Fixed inconsistencies with teleporting onto a supply ship. – Fixed an issue allowing teleporting into drills around Lava Fissure. – Fixed an issue preventing teleporting on certain terrain in Staging. – Rampart Fixed an issue with doors closing when dismounting a placed Sheila in a doorway. – Fixed Amped Cover from floating in the air when placed on a supply ship. – Fixed an issue with being able to place Sheila on loot bins. – Fixed an issue with Longbow DMR, Triple Take, Mastiff and Sentinel not always receiving the Amped Cover buff. – Fixed an issue with Amped Cover being able to be placed at bad angles around the map. – Fixed an issue with the Amped Cover not being destroyed by the initial blast of Charge Rifle. – Fixed an issue with bullets getting amped before they cross the amped wall from certain angles. – L-Star Fixed an issue with overheating occurring when firing a single shot from the weapon multiple times. –

  • Apex Legends aim assist apparently “way stronger” on console than PC – Dexerto

Apex Legends aim assist apparently “way stronger” on console than PC Microsoft[jwplayer UQowmNq2] Some in-game coding recently discovered in Apex Legends suggests that the controversial aim assist mechanic may be considerably more powerful for controllers connected to a console vs a PC. The topic of aim assist has always been a controversial one in Apex Legends, especially when players on PC plug in a controller against their mouse-and-keyboard-using (M+KB) counterparts. It’s been thrust back into the spotlight recently ever since Respawn Entertainment announced that crossplay will be coming to their prized BR, which means that players will now not only have to worry about coming up against controller on PC but also on console. A recent discovery from prominent data-miner iLootGames has thrown a wrench into the discussion. The leaker has concluded, based on his findings, that an in-game setting makes console aim assist a whole third of a grading higher than on a computer. Let me help with the aim assist debate. In Apex code they call aimassist power “”aimassist_magnet”” the rating for full aimbot being 1 and off being 0. What it appears to be set as is .6 strength for console and then there is an override for pc that sets it at .4 pic.twitter.com/eimgkG4COt — iLootGames – ApexRanked.com (@iLootGames) July 30, 2020 “I thought this would be interesting information for pro players to look at and anyone that is curious if there is a difference between console and PC aim assist when using a controller,” iLootGames wrote. He went on: “To sum it up, aim assist for controller is much stronger on console than it is when a controller is plugged into a computer. Think about the implications of this when crossplay comes.” He certainly has a point; the upcoming launch of cross-platform support will mean that M+KB players will have to deal with a much stronger level of aim assist if they match up against console users. As it is, a lot of them complain that the help controller PC players get is already too strong. iLootGames’ findings, while new, aren’t totally out of the blue. CLG star pro player NiceWigg, one of the best controller players in the world, replied to the tweet by saying he’d been suspecting the same for a while. Thank you for this!! I’ve been saying that for so long. It 100 percent feels stronger on console. — CLG NiceWigg (@NiceWigg) July 30, 2020 The one good news is that Respawn recently confirmed that those on console will not be matched up against PC users unless they have someone on their team that’s on computer. This is beneficial for both parties: console players won’t have to worry about getting dominated by those on more advanced rigs, while PC users won’t have to deal with the stronger aim assist. Read More: How to loot faster in Apex Legends – Either way, fans will at least be comforted to have it verified that there is a difference in the mechanic’s strength based on which platform is being used. But whether or not that will play a larger role with crossplay remains to be seen.

  • Apex Legends will “address” Kings Canyon as pros want it removed – Dexerto

Apex Legends will “address” Kings Canyon as pros want it removed Respawn EntertainmentAs complaints mount up about the viability of Kings Canyon as a competitive map in Apex Legends, Respawn are looking to “address” the issue, as the game now looks forward to its seventh season. [jwplayer rSmq5Fo4] Kings Canyon is the original map in Apex Legends, though it was replaced totally in Season 3 by World’s Edge. Thanks to high demand, KC was brought back in Season 4, but on a rotation, meaning for set periods, each map will be available. To avoid splitting the player base however, it’s not possible to simply select which map you want to play on; everyone either plays World’s Edge, or plays Kings Canyon. For the casual modes, this has generally worked well. World’s Edge is arguably a better map in terms of loot and balance, but players love the original map and its iconic locations too. However, for more competitive players, who spend the majority of their time in the Ranked playlist, there is a different feeling. Due to the balancing and loot issues, most competitive players much prefer playing on World’s Edge. So much so that they have repeatedly asked to have Kings Canyon totally removed from the Ranked rotations going forward. Streamer NiceWigg summed up the community’s feeling on Twitter, arguing: “Kings Canyon needs to be removed from Apex legends ranked and competitive. As a community we have outgrown the map in skill level and it’s no longer a good map to play on.” dont get me wrong kings canyon is a well designed map, but at higher levels of gameplay and even some pubs its too easy to move throughout it. I love the way kings canyon looks but the way it plays right now doesnt feel right. — 100T NiceWigg (@NiceWigg) October 18, 2020 There was some debate about this point of view, but among ranked players exclusively, there does appear to be a general consensus on the issue. Respawn will address Kings Canyon “problem” Responding to a thread from streamer and pro player Diegosaurs, referring to becoming more “tilted” while playing Apex, producer Josh Medina said that “if the problem is KC we hear y’all loud and clear and it’ll be addressed.” We don’t know what exactly that will entail at this point. The obvious answer would be to totally remove it from ranked rotation altogether. However, although this is exactly what some are asking for, it might still be an extreme measure. It’s possible that more map changes are planned for Kings Canyon in Season 7, possibly with a view to making it more viable competitively. An improved loot pool, POI changes and more could make a significant change to the way the map plays, and ensure variety is kept, rather than just one map. The other alternative, is that a new map will release in the next season, as has been rumored for some time. The rumors and leaks point to “Olympus” being the new map, so perhaps it will just replace Kings Canyon totally in Ranked, while ensuring there’s still two maps in play for variety. However, these leaks also suggested we might get the new map in Season 6, and we know how that turned out.

  • Apex Legends addresses issue causing Heirloom Pack counter to reset – Dexerto

Apex Legends addresses issue causing Heirloom Pack counter to reset Respawn Entertainment/EARespawn Entertainment, the developers behind Apex Legends, have finally addressed an issue in the Anniversary Collection event that was causing Heirloom Pack counters to reset seemingly at random. [jwplayer VEi3mnK7] If you’ve been affected by the problems plaguing Apex Legends packs during the game’s anniversary event, and have been hoping that the developers talk about those issues, then your wish has come true. In a thread over on Twitter, Respawn finally dove into the confusion and problems surrounding the packs, the heirloom shards they were supposed to give, and more. According to the Apex Legends devs, a bug was causing a hidden counter, which guarantees players a pack of Heirloom shards at their 500th Apex pack, to be reset. The bug causing this issue has since been fixed, though it did run amok for some players who opened packs before February 10. We’re working on a hotfix to restore affected players’ “”bad luck protection”” counters to their proper count (including additional packs opened since the bug). If the bug prevented you from getting rewarded on your 500th pack, you’ll receive a pack containing heirloom shards. — Respawn (@Respawn) February 16, 2021 While the bug has indeed been fixed, Respawn is doing two things to address the problem. Firstly, they are working on a “hotfix” in order to change the progress back to what it was before it was reset, in order to help players track their pack opening properly, which will also include any pack opened after it was reset. When the hotfix releases, if the player is detected to have already crossed the 500 threshold, they will automatically be given a free pack containing heirloom shards. Secondly, Respawn is giving all players who were affected five free Apex Packs for the troubles associated with the bug, as a further gesture of goodwill. We’re also going to grant affected players 5 Apex Packs for their trouble. We’ll update when the fix has rolled out and we’ve confirmed that it’s working properly. — Respawn (@Respawn) February 16, 2021 Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a release date for either one of these. According to the devs, the free Apex Packs will come at some point after the hotfix has been released and it’s been tested to be working properly, but they gave no mention as to when that specific hotfix will be released to players. Hopefully, it won’t be too long before the hotfix arrives. Here’s hoping that it’s just a few days, and affected players don’t have to wait much longer.

  • Apex Legends adds new healing animations sparking theory about new items – Dexerto

Apex Legends adds new healing animations sparking theory about new items Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has added new healing animations in the Beast of Prey Collection Event and although they’re smoother, players are convinced it has a deeper meaning. Apex Legends’ Beast of Prey Collection Event kicked off on September 20, introducing Loba’s new Heirloom, the Gun Run LTM, and of course, a variety of incredible cosmetics. Despite all of these huge additions, it’s often the small changes that receive the most attention, especially when they’re related to animations. Well, in the recent update, Respawn decided to change all of the in-game healing animations, making them smoother and more satisfying to watch. Although the community is pleased with the new animations, some players are convinced they’ve only been updated so a new type of cosmetic can be added to heals and shields. Apex Legends players suspicious of new healing animations As showcased by @alphaINTEL, user prednoxx has demonstrated all of the new healing animations that arrived in the Collection Event. Overall, the animations are significantly smoother and a lot more satisfying to watch. Not only that, more of the actual item is shown on the screen and while this is certainly better to look at, this has raised some suspicions. As all of the animations now show more of the consumables on screen, some players are convinced Respawn has only made the change so they can fit the unreleased sticker cosmetics on the items that have been leaked in the past. “It’s just to show off stickers when they release them, so it’s purely a money move,” wrote one user, with another sarcastically celebrating that they “can’t wait to show off my legendary stickers on heals soon”. While Respawn has not officially announced when stickers will be available, a lot of players are taking this as a sign that it will be in the near future. The biggest problem fans have with the unreleased cosmetic type is that it will dilute the loot pool, making it harder to acquire skins. However, at the time of writing this is all strictly speculation, but it’s safe to say the praise for the new animations has been clouded by suspicious players who believe the update has a deeper meaning.

  • Apex Legends adds new & improved protection against DDoS attacks on PC – Dexerto

Apex Legends adds new & improved protection against DDoS attacks on PC Respawn EntertainmentRespawn has added Steam Networking code to Apex Legends in the Awakening patch that will aid to mitigate DDoS attacks and improve connectivity for players. As Apex Legends is a competitive game at its heart, the majority of players are always looking to improve and secure as many victories as possible. While a lot of the community put hours of practice into increasing their gunskill and mastery of a Legend, others prefer to take shortcuts that break the in-game rules. A common cheating tactic used frequently in the higher tiers of Ranked is DDoSing, where a competitor will use software to crash the Apex servers, effectively providing them with a free win. Well, Respawn has recognized that this issue is only getting worse and have taken action by introducing Steam Networking code in the Awakening patch. Respawn add new protection against DDoSers in Apex On June 21, reliable Apex Legends dataminer Shrugtal revealed that Respawn has added Steam Networking code in the Awakening Collection event patch. This effectively gives Apex Legends a middle-man through access to the Steam network, providing improved protection from DDoS attacks for PC players. Not only that, but the system also reportedly provides lower latency for the community across the world, enhancing the overall performance of the game. If you’d like a detailed breakdown of how the networking APIs work, make sure to check out Steam’s dedicated blog post here. Steam Networking code added with this patch – supports DDOS mitigation through relaying connection via Steam networks. — Shrugtal (@shrugtal) June 21, 2022 Now Apex is connected to the network, it’ll be interesting to see how much of an impact it’ll have on the rampant DDoSing that occurs at the high tiers of Ranked. If it’s effective, it’s guaranteed to enhance the competitive experience, especially for those who put in the effort to reach Diamond, Masters, and Predator. Overall, this is a huge step in the right direction, so let’s just hope Respawn continues to improve Apex’s defense against cheaters and hackers.

  • Apex Legends adding ‘promotional trials’ to Ranked to stop ratters ranking up – Dexerto

Apex Legends adding ‘promotional trials’ to Ranked to stop ratters ranking up Respawn EntertainmentTo tackle the common tactic of hiding in Ranked play to reach the upper echelons of Apex Legends’ ranks, Respawn is adding new promotional trials, so that players must prove their worth before ranking up. Ranked is one of Apex’s most popular ways to play, as it provides something to grind for – higher and higher rankings. But, due to the nature of battle royales, and the emphasis on placing well in the match, some players can simply choose to hide while others fight, hoping to earn points for placement, rather than playing as intended. To combat this, starting in Season 19, players will need to complete promotional trials before they can rank up to the next tier (e.g. Bronze 1 to Silver 4). Here’s how it works. How do Promotional Trials work in Apex Legends? Once you reach the top of a specific tier of ranks, before you are able to move up to the next tier, you will need to complete a time-limited challenge. For example, say you have reached the top of Bronze, you will then need to complete one of these challenges to progress into Silver. If you fail the challenge, you’ll be sent back down. The developers gave a challenge example: To progress from Silver 1 to Gold 4, in the next 5 matches you’ll need to win a match, OR place top 10 and get 3 kills/assists at least 3 times. If you fail to complete the challenge within the five matches, you’ll be sent back down – how far depends on how badly you performed in the promotional trials. If you do well, but miss out, you’ll only move down a bit, but if you play really poorly, you might get pushed back further. Respawn also explained that failing the trial in Diamond is more punishing than failing it in Bronze, for example. Respawn knows that these promotional trials will add extra “friction” to ranking up, and so they are also going to be more generous with Ladder Points this season. But, this should mean that players cannot rank up by simply playing passively – you’ll need to win matches or rack up kills to actually prove you are worthy of being in the next rank tier. Other ranked changes in the new season include the removal of premade restrictions. We’ll see how this new system shakes out starting October 31, when Season 19 of Apex Legends goes live.

  • Apex Legends adding Warzone-like map feature in Season 10 – Dexerto

Apex Legends adding Warzone-like map feature in Season 10 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends’ World’s Edge is going to undergo some pretty significant changes in Season 10, and some eagle-eyed fans have spotted what appears to be cable cars. With the current Apex Legends season soon coming to a close, many of the game’s players are looking ahead to Season 10: Emergence. While the new Legend (Seer) and the Rampage LMG will headline the latest update, Respawn also gave fans a sneak peek at a number of map changes that will be coming to World’s Edge. In fact, we already know that Train Yard, Refinery, and Sorting Factory will all receive some major tweaks. Although details have been rather scarce, that hasn’t stopped eagle-eyed fans from delving into the current footage and official screenshots. Arguably one of the most exciting additions to World’s Edge appears to be the introduction of cable cars. These new features could drastically shake up the way players traverse their surroundings, while also adding another layer of verticality to fights. Apex Legends cable cars spotted in Season 10 Looks like we’ll be getting some form of cable cars on World’s Edge 👁️ pic.twitter.com/EZJiNG7opP — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) July 20, 2021 As we mentioned earlier, Sorting Factory will be receiving a lot of changes in Season 10. If the early leaks from Shrugtal are to be believed, then this popular POI will be submerged in lava. This obviously makes it rather difficult for players to navigate when looking for loot or fighting enemy squads. In order to make this area easier to navigate, it looks like Respawn has introduced a cable car system that players can use to safely cross the gigantic pool of lava below. While we only have a screenshot to go off of, there looks to be a total of two cable cars. Players will likely need to duke it out to access this new feature, especially since they will likely give squads a decent vantage point to beam enemy players. We’ll likely see the cable cars in action when Respawn drops the Season 10 trailer, but for now, the picture above is all we have to go off of.

  • Apex Legends devs to address annoying console cursor bug – Dexerto

Apex Legends devs to address annoying console cursor bug Apex Legends console players may soon have a fix for their annoying cursor bug that forces them to waste them when trying to manage their loot. However, that hasn’t stopped the developers from addressing issues and trying to keep the game as strong as possible with regular updates to problems – be it big or small. In a post to the Apex Legends subreddit, Avi304, noted that the cursor for managing inventory on console is currently snapping to the side instead of to the middle. This means that players have to take a few extra moments, which could be the difference between being eliminated and surviving, to get the cursor where it needs to be. Nevertheless, the error was quickly picked up on by JayFresh – a part of the Respawn team – who explained that they would be looking into what was causing the error. “Noted! We’re looking into this, the cursor snapping to center is the intended state,” they replied. Redditors address other problems Nevertheless, other members of the subreddit chimed in with potential improvements of their own for the in-game cursor. One, YouLeftTheStoveOn, requested an option to increase the in-menu cursor speed instead of it being reliant on a players sensitivity. However, the dev didn’t pick up on the response, but that’s not to say that it couldn’t be something that comes to the game in future – especially if enough players have the same idea. With the start of Apex Legends Season 2 for the game slated for July 2, it remains to be seen just what bug fixes that Respawn address in their next massive update.

Apex Legends devs address hopes of adding Throwing Knife permanently Respawn EntertainmentRespawn has added a new weapon as part of Apex Legends’ Gun Run LTM in the Beast of Prey collection event, the Throwing Knife. The fresh addition to the game has players hoping it’ll be a permanent feature, but developers aren’t keen just yet. The new Gun Run LTM in Apex Legends is a throwback to gun games and arms races of old in other titles. You start with one weapon, and progress through the tiers as you get kills. It gets increasingly harder with worse guns too, making for a fun challenge. Players are already loving the game mode, but one thing has captured intrigue and that’s the Throwing Knife. A new weapon exclusive to the Gun Run LTM, it’s what you need to use to end the game and get a win. While Respawn put a lot of effort into bringing Throwing Knives to Apex Legends though, players shouldn’t expect it to be a permanent addition any time soon. If they were ever to do it, developer Robert West said there’d need to be some serious finetuning. “The throwing knife was designed as the final weapon in Gun Run and is tuned to be quite lethal,” he said on September 20. “Even if we make it an air drop weapon, it would probably need some changes when considering battle royale.” The idea of adding the Throwing Knife in the first place came out of necessity. Just ending the Gun Run LTM on a regular melee didn’t fit Apex Legends’ gameplay, so the developers had to think of something new. It was spawned off the Arc Star, funnily enough: “We wanted something difficult but achievable, with some range but optimal at short range. Throwing Knives fit the bill and was prototyped really early on in development. [A developer] took the arc star, removed the explosion and upped the initial hit. We loved it right away and started concepting the final visual design.” Despite all that effort though, it won’t be a permanent addition yet. Respawn has been slowing down weapon releases in Apex Legends for some time, and while they’ve added features from LTMs in the past — like Evo Armor — Throwing Knives are unlikely to be one of them for some time. Never say never, though.
