  • Is Crash Team Rumble coming to Xbox Game Pass? – Dexerto

Is Crash Team Rumble coming to Xbox Game Pass? Toys For BobCrash Bandicoot fans are gearing up for Crash Team Rumble – a new multiplayer game from Toys For Bob. It’s a slight deviation away from traditional Crash games, but Microsoft users are wanting to know if it’ll be on Xbox Game Pass at launch. Since the service’s full rollout in 2017, Xbox Game Pass has attracted millions of users to its platform. The allure of many ‘free’ games is a tempting one, and this also includes day-one releases too. Most recently, the likes of Redfall and Minecraft Legends were perfect examples of this, and Crash Team Rumble has fans wondering about its possible too. While not following in the same mold as the recent N.Sane Trilogy or Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, Crash Team Rumble is still very much a Crash game. We’ve already seen the likes of Crash, his sister Coco, and even arch-nemesis Dr. Neo Cortex will be playable. They’ll compete in high-octane online multiplayer action, and we’re here today to address the game’s Xbox Game Pass status. Will Crash Team Rumble be on Xbox Game Pass? As it stands, Crash Team Rumble will not be available on Xbox Game Pass. If users with an Xbox Series X|S or PC are wanting to experience the anarchy for themselves, they’ll have to acquire the game outright. There are usually a couple of clear-cut indicators to determine if a game will be on Xbox Game Pass or not. Firstly, one of the game’s trailers would normally have emphasized this point, but this, so far, hasn’t been the case. Additionally, the game’s purchase page on the Xbox store doesn’t include a sticker to say that it will be arriving on Xbox Game Pass. All things considered, it’s fairly safe to assume that Crash Team Rumble is not Xbox Game Pass-bound anytime soon. But, this doesn’t mean that things can’t change in the future. While not a day-one inclusion, Crash Team Rumble may always be added to Xbox Game Pass further down the line in an effort to widen the game’s player base. If that does happen, we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we can! In the meantime, check out if Crash Team Rumble will be a free-to-play game, and also keep up to date with the latest on a Crash Bandicoot film.

  • When is Crash Team Rumble Season 2? New characters, new map, Season 1 end date – Dexerto

When is Crash Team Rumble Season 2? New characters, new map, Season 1 end date Toys For BobCrash Team Rumble continues with Season 2. The exciting, 4v4 online multiplayer title looks set to introduce even more chaos into the fold. For all the latest, check out our hub detailing the possible start date, new content, and more. Season 2 of Crash Team Rumble is already being advertised and shows that there’s a lot of life in the energetic, multiplayer-only title. Taking a big detour from conventional Crash Bandicoot games, Toys For Bob shook things up when they announced Crash Team Rumble. Featuring familiar locales, iconic characters, and a bunch of silly power-ups and abilities, Crash Team Rumble has one goal – to be fun. The game’s launch also coincided with the release of Season 1, but the team has already announced plans for the second season, and we have all the latest. Contents When is Season 2 of Crash Team Rumble Season 2? While the roadmap and Toys For Bob have given no official confirmation as to when Season 2 will start, based on when the Season Pass will end, it seems like S2 will begin on September 11, 2023. Season 1 is currently scheduled to end on September 11, 2023, so we anticipate the new season starting straight away. As with all things though, this could be subject to change. The duration of the season might be revised, development may get prolonged, along with many other factors. So we’ll keep you updated. Crash Team Rumble Season 2: New maps Unlike Season 1, Season 2 will feature multiple new map additions. Because Season 1 also ties into the full launch of the game, day-one buyers are essentially getting a whole host of maps. Whereas Season 2 will obviously need to provide a bit more depth for player retention. Levels seem to be based on themes from previous Crash Bandicoot games, so we’ll have to wait and see what the devs come up with. Crash Team Rumble Season 2: New characters One area that looks like it will remain consistent for a while is the character selection department. Again, the Season 2 roadmap is already teasing the inclusion of “New Heroes,” again, plural, but Season 1 also added two new faces too. Season 1 brought Ripper Roo and N.Gin. The Crash Bandicoot universe has a smorgasbord of weird and wonderful characters that could feature from Tiny Tiger to Pinstripe Potoroo. Crash Team Rumble Season 2: New powers Finally, Season 2 adds new powers to the party – but they are yet to be confirmed. Just to reiterate, with so many Crash games in the franchise, Toys For Bob are spoiled with which ideas can be borrowed from to use going forward. Crash Team Rumble is still in its early days yet and likely has a long way to go. So, we’ll keep you updated on Season 2 and beyond, and for more guides on the game, check out some other guides below: Is Crash Team Rumble free-to-play? | Is Crash Team Rumble coming to Xbox Game Pass? | Does Crash Team Rumble have single player? | Can you play Crash Team Rumble on Steam Deck? | Will Crash Team Rumble be on Nintendo Switch? | Does Crash Team Rumble have microtransactions? | Is Crash Team Rumble crossplay? • Does Crash Team Rumble have single player? – Dexerto

Does Crash Team Rumble have single player? Toys For BobCrash Team Rumble is being advertised as a frantic, fun, 4v4 multiplayer experience. However, Crash Bandicoot fans are wondering if the new game will also feature a single-player story, or some sort of Story Mode or campaign. Single-player content has been the backbone of Crash Bandicoot games for decades going all the way back to the first title in 1996. Crash Team Rumble is a departure of sorts as Toys For Bob is focusing more on a multiplayer Crash title incorporating the platforming, fighting, and strategy genres. While the early Crash games consisted of dozens of single-player levels, later games expanded the game’s repertoire. Crash Team Racing was a kart racer that included single-player and multiplayer content. Whereas Crash Bash consisted of mini-games aimed at single-player and multiplayer mayhem. So far though, the primary focus of Crash Team Rumble has been its online multiplayer. The gameplay looks like a wumping good time, but will it be multiplayer only? Does Crash Team Rumble have a Story Mode? Toys For Bob have confirmed that Crash Team Rumble will feature no narrative, campaign, or Story Mode elements. It’s intended to exclusively operate as an online multiplayer game. According to WellPlayed, a Q&A regarding the game featured a question about single-player content. In response, Associate Creative Director Lou Studdert and Creative Director Dan Neil said: “There is no narrative component to the game, it’s multiplayer focused.“ This means that Crash Team Rumble will be the first console Crash Bandicoot game to exclude any kind of single-player content. Hopefully, this won’t dissuade long-time Crash fans from getting involved with the project. The devs have confirmed that Crash Team Rumble will be supported for a long time with content-rich updates. That’s everything you need to know about a potential story mode or campaign in Crash Team Rumble. For more on the game, check out if it’ll be free-to-play, as well as its availability on Xbox Game Pass.

They then explained the gameplay objectives: “To lead their squad to victory, players will slide, smash, bump and bash as a team to be the ‘fur-st’ to bank the most Wumpa fruit in their drop-off zone, while simultaneously defending the opponent team’s drop zone. “Featuring cross-platform play, Crash Team Rumble will feature tons of strategic gameplay elements that will be sure to turn the tide of scoring in hilarious ways.” The game will be available to play on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One — with full cross-platform support.

It’s made possible by the use of microtransactions and season passes, leaving fans to wonder if Crash Team Rumble will also be free-to-play. However, we’re going to walk you through the topics of crossplay and cross-progression in the title. The Crash Bandicoot franchise has been on some journey since its debut in 1996. Running away from prehistoric dinosaurs, performing drifts in heated go-kart competition, throwing crates in space in party games – we’ve seen it all. Well, we thought we had until Crash Team Rumble came along. The multiplayer title is pretty far gone compared to what we’ve seen from the franchise in the past. • Crash Bandicoot MOBA already ending support less than a year since launch – Dexerto

Crash Bandicoot MOBA already ending support less than a year since launch Toys For BobThe dev team behind the online multiplayer Crash Team Rumble game has confirmed they will stop updating the game less than a year after its initial launch. Crash Team Rumble first dropped on consoles and PC on June 20, 2023. The title is a spin-off of the main Crash series and pits the iconic character head to head in a fighting experience. However, the game has failed to garner traction, with the devs issuing a message to their fans and revealing that the upcoming March 4 update will be the game’s last. “March 4, 2024 will be the final content update for Crash Team Rumble,” the statement reads. “The core game will still be live and players will have access to a free 500-tier battle pass that includes 104 new items. This will include all of the Battlepass content from Seasons 1 through 3, plus all the available event rewards. “Additionally, Crash Coin purchases will be turned off, and players can use their existing Crash Coins to purchase tier skips for the Battlepass.” This news has come as a shock to fans of the game, given it has been live for less than a year. Across social media, Crash Team Rumble players have been sharing their disappointment and frustration over the news. One X user (formerly known as Twitter) wrote, “This game has not even been out an entire year. If only they would add local multiplayer. You can buy this game physically and when those servers shut down it will just be a paperweight.” Another added, “This was a failed idea from the start. People wanted new Crash and Spyro games, not multiplayer games with those characters.” Time will tell what the future of the Crash Bandicoot franchise looks like. However, it appears the PlayStation icon will not be moving ahead via Crash Team Rumble.

One of the game covers appears to suggest Xbox Series X compatibility will also be supported, so it’s probably coming to next-gen consoles as well – if true. The leaked description for the game states: “Crash is relaxing and exploring his island in his time, 1998, when he finds a mysterious mask hidden away in a cave, Lani-Loli. The mask is one of the Quantum Masks and apparently knows Aku-Aku, Crash’s mask friend! “With the Quantum Masks returning and a Quantum Rift appearing near our heroes, they decide to bravely head through to different times and dimensions to stop whoever is responsible.” Images of the game case have been circulating on social media since the leak surfaced. https://twitter.com/RiseFallNick/status/1273838845872820224 If it turns out to be accurate, Crash fans could have a brand new experience from Activision announced shortly. It’s also been noted that some outlets have received 200-piece puzzles, Crash themed of course, which also be an indicator about a reveal coming up. https://twitter.com/Nibellion/status/1273647431809486849 Previous games from the series have been remastered for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but this would be the first fresh game in the franchise since 1998 – when Warped was released on the original PlayStation console. Many fans will be hoping that the leak is true, but we await official confirmation.

  • Crafty Overwatch spot can give you the drop on Lijiang Tower – Dexerto

Crafty Overwatch spot can give you the drop on Lijiang Tower Blizzard EntertainmentA new perch where Overwatch players can hang out has been discovered on Lijiang Tower’s Night Market stage, and it’s somewhere the enemy team will never think to look. There are plenty of out the way and unexpected spots you can post up on in Overwatch, and the stages of Lijiang Tower contain a good number of them. With plenty of roofs, walkways, nooks, and crannies, there are plenty of places to lay in wait for unsuspecting enemies, but this one discovered by Reddit user InfamousHandy on a whole other level. In the area just outside the spawn room, there’s a building to the right (or left depending on which side you’re on) that’s covered in dark awnings. As you can see, with an ability like Reaper’s Shadowstep it’s actually possible to get up there and chill as long as you like. If you can get up to this spot on the enemy side with your ult without being seen or destroyed, you have a chance to drop down and score some eliminations while the other team is still regrouping. It’s not just Reaper who can reach it either, Echo, Pharah, and Lucio also can on their own, and any hero can as well with the help of Symmetra’s Teleporter. Just imagine what it would be like to get a Bastion up there. The only downside is that to have any chance in a regular match of getting kills with this, you will most likely have to make your way to the enemy side of the map, which can be a challenge all on its own sometimes. To increase your chances of making it across undetected, we’d suggest using the side corridors, if you lack a movement ability that lets you avoid the ground altogether, like Lucio. With the Lunar New Year event coming right up after Winter Wonderland though, this strat might be worth keeping in your back pocket for those special Capture the Flag modes.

  • Crab Game developer issues update after IP address leak troubles – Dexerto

Crab Game developer issues update after IP address leak troubles Crab GameThe developer of ‘Crab Game’ has issued a massive update to the game that hides players’ IP addresses after xQc and Sodapoppin were subjected to DDoS attacks while playing the game. Having your IP address leaked to the wrong person is something no streamer ever wants to experience. The malicious person can perform a DDoS attack on the creator, which if performed correctly, will end all attempts to stream as the attack floods your internet router with traffic, effectively stopping it from working. Just hours after xQc and Sodapoppin were subjected to DDoS attacks while playing Crab Game, the developer took to Twitter to apologize. They also took a moment to explain what went wrong during development to cause the leaked IP addresses. Crab Game update Just two days after announcing the update, the developer announced that the game had been fixed, although there are a few issues left to address. They stated: “Crab game is now SAFE. No more IP leaks. No more DDoS. You can play/host public lobbies, and your IP will not be shared.” Crab game is now SAFE. No more IP leaks. No more DDoS. You can play / host public lobbies, and your IP will not be shared. Crab Game is now using Steams new Networking, which does not share your IP, and is just as safe as any other game on Steam. — Dani (@DaniDevYT) November 4, 2021 He went on to reiterate that the networking code for the game had been entirely replaced with Steam’s more secure version, but at the cost of a few bugs in the game. Luckily, he intends to fix these soon, and just wanted to put emphasis on the issue causing the IP address leak. I’ve completely replaced all the old networking code with the new one, so there are currently a lot of issues & bugs in the game. I will fix these soon, but my number 1 priority was to make the game safe to play, so no one else would get their IP leaked. — Dani (@DaniDevYT) November 4, 2021 Furthermore, the developer apologized directly to the affected creators in a final tweet, tagging xQc, Sodapoppin, and nmpLol. The community has been positive since the initial announcement, giving the developer credit for being on top of the issue. Hopefully, with this new fix, nobody else will be subjected to a DDoS attack.

  • Could Valve revive Artifact? New report sheds light on possible relaunch – Dexerto

Could Valve revive Artifact? New report sheds light on possible relaunch A source with inside knowledge at Valve is reporting that the game developer is planning a “2.0 launch in 2020” for the Dota-inspired digital card game that has sported dismal numbers since launch. The source also provides some explanation on what went wrong for Artifact. Looking back at the Dota 2 International 2017 crowd’s reaction to the Artifact reveals, it’s more sad than funny now. Well, it’s still pretty funny. The anticipation built through the crowd as fans wondered Artifact could be. A massive update? A Dota sequel? A new game entirely? But when the words “The Dota Card Game” appeared on the screen, the communal groans of disappointment ended up being a telling sign for Valve’s newest project. But it appears that Artifact is not yet completely dead, as a source has revealed that Artifact project lead Brandon Rhienhart “is working on retooling the game for a 2.0 launch sometime in 2020.” Tyler McVicker, who operates the Valve News Network YouTube channel, posted a comment on the video titled “Valve’s Most Shameful Disaster” made by YouTuber Cr1TiKaL (aka penguinz0), and provided some context on Artifact’s short, disastrous run. “The game was rushed due to pressures from Richard Garfield & Gabe Newell, the game was lied about in the lead up marking provided by Newell himself, and most importantly, Garfield demanded the monetization strategy above all else. Richard and his longtime creative partner were fired from Valve shortly after the game’s launch.” “More than anything else, Artifact proved that when left unchecked for over a decade, a company like Valve can become so incredibly out of touch that they became convinced they knew what their audience wanted, more than the audience itself.” Artifact’s launch was far below Valve’s standards, reaching a player peak of roughly 60,000. The game cost, and still does cost, $20 to play, and is loaded with microtransactions. After its release in November 2018, Artifact’s player base dropped at an exponential rate. From 11,000 average players in December, to around 750 in February, to less than 80 from June through August. In his comment, McVicker alludes to a deeper story regarding the failed initial run of Artifact: “The story of the game’s original pitch, development, announcement, hype cycle, launch, and death is far more nuanced and detailed then [Cr1TiKaL] is illustrating here, and it deserves to be told soon.” Valve has invested much into their new autobattler title Dota Underlords, which is inspired by the Dota 2 mod Autochess. It’ll be interesting to see what changes they make to Artifact.

  • CouRage, LIRIK and more react to Marvel’s Avengers game trailer – Dexerto

CouRage, LIRIK and more react to Marvel’s Avengers game trailer CouRage / Square EnixCrystal Dynamics finally revealed the first trailer for their upcoming Marvel’s Avengers game during the Square Enix conference at E3 2019, but it has been met with a muted response from fans. The new Avengers game was one of the mot anticipated titles being shown at E3, but a number of factors have left those excited for the game underwhelmed after watching the reveal. Many have highlighted the graphical quality, which for a game releasing in 2020 seems fairly weak, as well as the Avenger’s cast themselves, which bear no resemblance to their big screen counterparts. The release date isn’t until May 15, 2020, so there is still time for the studio to tidy up the rough edges, but for many the signs are not good. Avenger’s super-fan and popular streamer Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop voiced his disappointment after seeing the trailer, even suggesting that the voice acting and gameplay (of which there was very little shown) was a let down. Dude…all I want is a GOOD AVENGERS GAME Just watched the trailer for the Avengers game announced at E3. Hurt my heart seeing the voice acting, graphics, and gameplay be such of a let down. — Jack “CouRage” Dunlop (@CouRageJD) June 11, 2019 YouTuber Gav a.k.a ‘Miracle of Sound’ joked that the cast in the game had been confused with the actors’ stunt doubles, given the lack of resemblance to the movie cast with which these the Avenger’s are now synonymous. Pretty cool of Marvel to give the stunt doubles their own game! #avengers pic.twitter.com/1G2V0cCTVe — Gav (@miracleofsound) June 11, 2019 Daily Show comedian Roy Woods Jr. joked that the all-star cast from the movies would have been too pricey for the game to hire for the game. MARVEL: We wanna use ya’ll likeness in the new Avenger’s game. AVENGERS CAST: Cool. We each need $576,275,592.48 MARVEL: Cool. Lemme hit ya’ll right back… pic.twitter.com/hsDeGcsMSL— Roy Wood Jr- Ex Jedi (@roywoodjr) June 11, 2019 However, streamer LIRIK was more forgiving, arguing that there was no way the original cast from the movies would be willing to play their parts in the game. “They’re over that shit, they did it for like ten years, so they’re good to go” LIRIK explains, “so of course some other people are going to play the characters.” Others were also disappointed that Hawkeye seems to be completely missing from the game, not appearing in the trailer at all. Not everyone was so negative however, with some optimistic that the gameplay could be as a fun as Marvel’s Spider-Man, the successful PS4 exclusive which also had it’s own actor, but with engaging mechanics and an intriguing story. If Marvel’s Avengers from Crystal Dynamics can nail the gameplay and story, most fans will be able to overlook the casting choices and mediocre visuals.

  • Could new EA studio create a open-world Star Wars game? – Dexerto

Could new EA studio create a open-world Star Wars game? EAAn open-world Star Wars title is something many of us have been craving. Could a new studio led by an industry veteran be the first clue into what EA is developing next? EA is no stranger to the Star Wars entity, as they are best known for developing four recent titles with the latter – Star Wars Squadrons – being the most recent one. However, many regard Jedi Fallen Order as the cream of the crop. It has been quite some time since there has been an open-world Star Wars game released, with the last notable one really being Knights of The Old Republic. Now, a new studio led by an open-world specialist has perhaps given us a hint into what EA is releasing in the near future. New EA studio Gamesindustry.biz has reported that Kevin Stephen’s who was previously known for being the Vice President at Monolith studios, will be taking the helm as the lead behind a new EA studio. Read More: How to watch EA Play July – Monolith is best touted for releasing the Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor series, which were an open-world action-adventure series with similar concepts to Assassin’s Creed. Stephen’s joining the team is notable, as the unnamed studio will be directly focusing on these types of games. While the studio is not up and running as of now, it seems as they will be starting the development of future titles in the near future, but this could mean EA is going to reignite their forgotten open-world Star Wars game. Open-world Star Wars game Back in 2019, Kotaku reported that EA Vancouver had canceled their project which focused on an open-world Star Wars game. The report at the time claimed they needed to shift their focus to something that would not take as long to release to the public. In the time since this cancelation, we have seen both Jedi Fallen Order and Squadrons release. This new studio solely focusing on action-adventure open-world titles seems to be a bit of a clue at first glance. With no rush to release another Star Wars game after the two that have recently released, now seems better than ever to develop one. As well, in January 2021, Ubisoft broke news as they announced they are also working on an open-world Star Wars title. Meaning if this new EA studio were to begin development on one, then the two would be directly competing with one another, which is something we are all for. We mean, who wouldn’t love two open-world Star Wars games? However, the titles the new studio led by Stephens are all unknown as of now, and it may be years before we see anything from this new development team, but we can be hopeful.

Coral Island: How to get the Fishing Pole and Bug Net Stairway GamesCoral Island players will need easy ways to make money, and the best way to do that early in the game is to catch bugs and fish. Here is how to unlock the Fishing Pole and Bug Net. Getting started in any slice-of-life farming game can be a bit of a grind. While there are plenty of forgeable items to sell for a profit in Coral Island’s early access, fishing and bug catching are a great way to pad bank account for the springtime seed collection. There are dozens of fish and bugs players can catch around Coral Island. However, they won’t be immediately accessible at the start of the game. Instead, the player will need to take a trip down to the beach for a quick introduction at Sunny’s Beach Shack. Below is everything you need to know to unlock the Fishing pole and Bug Net. How to unlock the Fishing Pole and Bug Net in Coral island Players who have bought Coral Island on Steam will find themselves quickly settling into island life. This includes completing a line of “Main Quests.” These quests are the key to upgrading homes, making friends, and obtaining items like the Fishing Pole and Bug Net. • Coral Island early access review – the farming sim we’ve been waiting for – Dexerto

Coral Island early access review – the farming sim we’ve been waiting for Stairway GamesCoral Island has finally released into early access, revealing a rich and exciting world filled with mysteries. Despite still having a long road ahead to full launch, it is definitely the game fans have been waiting for. Coral Island has garnered a good deal of attention in the past few years following its exceedingly successful Kickstarter campaign. The slice-of-life, farming simulation departs from the pixelated designs of Stardew Valley and Littlewood, instead utilizing 3D and 2D illustrations to create a vibrant island with unique characters. The game offers the standard array of farming simulation mechanics. Players obtain their own farmstead, learning to grow crops, care for animals, and build useful buildings. Along the way, they gain access to mining dungeons filled with monsters, and can befriend local townsfolk. However, Coral Island has put a much-needed spin on the well-loved basics of the cozy genre, implementing a diving system to explore the oceans, as well as adding an emotional narrative about environmental damage seen around coral reefs. The combination of the familiar and the inventive draws players in, creating the addictive desire to dig deep into the island’s mysteries. Coral Island key details Price: $24.99 USD – Developer: Stairway Games – Early Access release date: October 11, 2022 – Platforms: PC via Steam – Coral Island official trailer Coral Island makes the early game fun One of the most daunting struggles of farming sims is the first few in-game months of gameplay. Players are often left with few things to do, and limited funds to purchase seeds, tools, animals, or buildings. This creates a miserable grind of catching bugs and fish to earn money. Coral Island does away with this outdated “earn your way” ideology. Instead, players immediately have access to a range of different ways to fill their days. Seeds are affordable, and the first batch of Turnip seeds come free. A wide array of forgeable goods from the island have good resell value, helping to get things started. Additionally, a steady stream of in-game quests help players get to know the island, as well as its inhabitants. These quests mix narrative with tutorial, removing the need for the week-long explanation that is seen in many Story of Seasons games. Players will also notice that the tools work seamlessly, with no lag or excess animations drawing out planting and watering. This makes crop-tending a breeze, and ensures there is time for the many other exciting mechanics that make up the game. Early on, players will notice the amount of garbage that seems to litter every aspect of Coral Island. Unlike Stardew Valley, which is weirdly pristine for its dark tone surrounding big corporations, Coral Island calls out the ecological effects these companies have on the environment, and players will waste no time diving in. While using a scythe to clear beaches and farmland of mounds of trash, players will also need to explore the ocean. After obtaining the Wet Suit, hours can be spent scrubbing the ocean floor of trash while helping to restore the oil-spill damaged coral. Coral Island’s cast of characters make the story amazing Coral Island also has taken a turn with the NPCs players can meet. The story includes 28 romanceable characters, each sporting a beautiful 2D portrait and outfits for each season. The characters are full of life and are fleshed out with real struggles. This includes Noah’s anxious fear of heights to Suki’s post-divorce drive to run the Coral Inn. Developer Stairway Games has managed to do what many AAA titles in recent years seem to have missed, making each character important to the story. This careful development makes the game more than just a farming simulation, pushing players to explore and learn about town residents that make each aspect of gameplay more fulfilling. Coral Islands early access cracks come in the player character Despite the game’s absolutely beautiful early access state, it does fall a bit flat when it comes to the player’s character. While the character creation process is diverse -offering different body shapes, inclusive pronouns, and a variety of skin tones – hairstyles are limited and detailed customization is difficult. To add to this, the player character feels almost hollow compared to the vibrant NPCs wandering the town, beaches, and forest. Improvements to customization and player dialogue options would be a huge benefit in future updates, and would likely help players connect with their character during gameplay. Is Coral island worth it in early access during 2022? This game is worth investing in while in during early access. The current build is more fleshed out than many farming sims that are fully released and has a solid roadmap for upcoming content. Those who want to fall in love with the world they are farming in will find no shortage of delightful details hidden in character dialogue and secret map locations. The game is an absolute delight to play, and easy to lose hours in. It has all the heart of early farming simulations while taking outdated gameplay and revolutionizing it for the future of the slice-of-life genre. Dexerto was provided with a PC Steam code of Coral Island for the purpose of this preview.

This includes an open-world island to explore, an array of diverse romance candidates, and a slew of crafting, farming, and diving options. Play with Josh streams Coral Island on YouTube In a recent live stream on YouTube, popular slice-of-life gamer Play with Josh has shown the first three and a half hours of gameplay. The live stream offers players a look at how they will settle their farm, and the first tasks they will have to conquer to get started The game is surprisingly detailed for early access, with both the player’s farm and the surrounding areas covered in bright foliage. Additionally, one of the key features of the game is seen in the preview. Coral Island boasts beautiful, 2D portraits of each character in the town. These unique portraits change based on the character’s emotions and help build a sense of connection between the player and Coral Island’s residents. Players also got a sneak peek at the farming and mining mechanics, both of which emulate previous titles like Stardew Valley and Story of Seasons, but appear more refined. One of the most notable things about the early access game is that its overall farming progression seems more cohesive than AAA titles like Story of Seasons and Rune Factory – which is an exciting prospect for farming fans.

  • Cool Cats NFT brand pounces into gaming scene with three new titles – Dexerto

Cool Cats NFT brand pounces into gaming scene with three new titles Cool Cats GroupCool Cats, a highly-regarded NFT collection that made headlines in 2021, is set to leap into the gaming world with three new games to be released in late 2023 and early 2024. Collaborating with seasoned gaming publishers nWay, iCandy, and Sync Studios, the brand today announced it is developing three new games to be rolled out over the course of the next year. Cool Cats, the brainchild of artist Colin Egan (a.k.a. “The Catoonist”), erupted onto the scene with a collection of eye-catching cat characters that turned into one of the hottest NFT trends in 2021. In October 2021, a “special zombie” Cool Cat sold for 320 ETH, or around $1.41M. NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) are digital assets stored on a blockchain (the same tech that powers cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin). They can take many forms, from art to music, and yes, even pictures of cats. However, the path hasn’t always been smooth for Cool Cats. After a meteoric rise, the brand experienced a tumultuous period, including missed deadlines, questionable CEO hiring, and significant value fluctuation. Despite these obstacles, Cool Cats continue to operate in the NFT space and have a renewed focus on gaming. This newly-announced collaboration with gaming publishers nWay, iCandy, and Sync Studios marks an ambitious new direction for the web3 company. nWay, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, is a developer of competitive multiplayer games across various platforms. They’ve produced titles like “POWER RANGERS: Battle for the Grid,” a tag-team fighting game that allowed crossplay between Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC, and “POWER RANGERS: Legacy Wars,” a mobile fighting game with over 80 million downloads. The iCandy Interactive Limited game will be an endless runner game, a genre that typically offers addictive, high-score-chasing gameplay. Cool Cats will look to follow the success of Yuga Labs’ (founders of Bored Ape Yacht Club) popular runner game “Dookey Dash,” in which the player who recorded the highest score was able to sell the NFT for $1.6M. Sync Studios, a mobile game studio, rounds out the trio of partners. The project they’re embarking on with Cool Cats will be a match3 game for mobile, a familiar genre for many gamers. The move represents yet another significant crossover between the NFT space and the gaming industry, which has seen similar attempts with brands like Bored Ape Yacht Club and Dr. Disrespect’s Midnight Society. While we don’t have all the details about the new games just yet, we’re looking forward to seeing what Cool Cats brings to the table.

Along with her elusive status comes players trying to maximize her power and understand her skill. We’ve compiled everything you need to know about Pumpkin Pie Cookie as well as what the best toppings are for this fighter so you can capitalize on her power and make sure she’s safe, strong, and undefeatable. Contents How to get Pumpkin Pie Cookie – The best toppings for Pumpkin Pie Cookie – What does Pumpkin Pie Cookie’s skill do? – How to get Pumpkin Pie Cookie Although Pumpkin Pie Cookie was released for an event in 2021, you can still get hold of her now, it’s just a little harder to do so. She’s available to pull in the regular gacha and you have a 0.082% chance to get hold of Pumpkin Pie Cookie. Alternatively, you can find her Soulstones in the Dark Mode between stages 6-30. The best toppings for Pumpkin Pie Cookie Getting hold of Pumpkin Pie Cookie is tough enough, but luckily finding the right toppings for her is much easier. However, it’s still one of the most important aspects of the game and one players shouldn’t take lightly if they want to maximize this cookie’s power. We recommend prioritizing Searing Raspberry and Solid Almond to increase her attack and focus primarily on her tank status in the team. Our suggestion is to go for three Solid Almond toppings and two Searing Raspberry toppings to keep her strong but also just as powerful. While that’s our recommendation, you could use any combination of the two toppings, or focus solely on Solid Almon or Searing Raspberry. What does Pumpkin Pie Cookie’s skill do? Pumpkin Pie Cookie’s skill is called Pompon and can be particularly useful if used at the right time. Essentially Pompon increases Pumpkin Pie Cookie’s size which serves to cause impressive area damage to up to three enemies. This also applies a debuff that will dramatically decrease the amount of healing your enemies will receive. When active, her skill will increase the attack speed of all allies and will allow her to be resistant to certain interruption effects. It has a larger cooldown of 18 seconds so you’ll need to use Pumpkin Pie Cookie’s skill wisely. Those are the best toppings for Pumpkin Pie Cookie and how you can best thrive with her in your team. • Cookie Run Kingdom: Best toppings for the Dark Cacao cookie – Dexerto

Cookie Run Kingdom: Best toppings for the Dark Cacao cookie DevsistersUnlocking Dark Cacao in Cookie Run: Kingdom raises the question of how to harness his power fully. Our guide provides the best strategy for this stern, powerful cookie. Securing an ancient cookie like Dark Cacao is a daunting task in this mobile gacha game, yet his desirability is unmatched, making him a top choice among the ancient cookies for his impressive charge abilities. However, he can only be brought into power if you build him right and if you know what to expect when fighting with him. You’ll need the correct toppings and a general understanding of Dark Cacao to truly push him to the full extent of his power. Here’s everything you need to know about Dark Cacao in the game. The best toppings for Dark Cacao in Cookie Run: Kingdom When it comes to finding some useful toppings for a charge cookie like Dark Cacao, you want to focus on your own preferences as well as what will work with his strengths. It all depends on the capabilities of the rest of your party and also what you want Dark Cacao to do in a battle. That being said, since Dark Cacao will be placed at the front of the group, thanks to his type, you’ll be safe to select a topping like Solid Almond which increases the cookie’s damage resistance. This will, in turn, keep him alive longer allowing him to use his skill more often. If you don’t want to go for protection and would rather focus on dealing damage quickly and efficiently, the next best topping for Dark Cacao is the Searing Raspberry topping. This will increase your cookie’s attack damage and allow him to do the deadly hits the party needs. Another topping that you can choose for Dark Cacao is the Swift Chocolate that reduces the cooldown period. A shorter cooldown implies that opponents will endure Cacao’s debuffs for an extended period. Either the Solid Almond topping or the Searing Raspberry toppings will suit Dark Cacao. They can be put in whatever order you want. What does Dark Cacao’s skill do? Unfortunately, unlike a lot of other cookies, Dark Cacao’s skill doesn’t really aid anyone but himself. That’s not to say it isn’t powerful though, especially when you look at some of the passive effects he gets. His skill is called Solemn Judgement and essentially deals damage as well as reducing the enemy’s attack and defense, along with dealing the status effects Zap and Injury. The damage dealt from this skill begins at 46.9% for the first hit and increases to an impressive 265.8% on his second hit, making it a particularly useful attack for an enemy on low health. The skill grants Dark Cacao a plus 20% to resist any debuffs but also reduces his defense by 15% for nine seconds, and his attack by 10.8% for nine seconds. It’s not ideal but with a few hits like that, you may not need to worry about the negatives. That’s all you need to know about Dark Cacao and how to create the most powerful build for this Cookie Run: Kingdom character. • Control 2: Developers & everything we know – Dexerto

Control 2: Developers & everything we know Remedy Entertainment / 505 GamesA sequel to Remedy’s Control is coming, this time as a joint venture between Remedy Entertainment and 505 Games. Here’s everything we know so far about Control 2. Control was a sci-fi action game from Remedy Entertainment and 505 Games in which a government agency investigated paranormal events. The game shared a lot of similarities with Remedy’s previous titles such as Alan Wake and Quantum Break but was very much its own entity. A sequel was announced in June 2021, but in November 2022, Remedy and 505 Games revealed they had both signed an agreement to both co-develop and co-publish Control 2, which was formerly known as Codename Heron, as a sequel to the original game. Contents Does Control 2 have a release date? No, there is no release date for Control 2 as of yet. However, the game is expected to be released in late 2023 or early 2024. A financial report from October 2023 revealed that the game is still “In the proof-of-concept stage.” It also said, “The plans for this sequel are ambitious, and we have seen good progress both in the designs and in the game build. We will continue at this stage for the next few quarters. We focus on proving the identified key elements before moving to the next stage and scaling up the team.” This implies that the game is still some time from release and may no longer be on track for 2024. What platforms will Control 2 be on? There’s been no word on the platforms Control 2 will be released on yet. However, we suspect the game will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC as it seems likely to be released in this generation of hardware. The original was also released on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch (Cloud). Although as the game is still in the early stages of development, this makes a last-gen and Switch release less likely. Gameplay and setting Control revolves around the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC), a secret U.S. government agency tasked with containing and studying phenomena that violate the laws of reality. The game is heavily inspired by stories from the SCP Foundation, which are community-led internet horror stories and creepypastas. In the original game, some of the supernatural phenomena break loose and the player must work to contain them, taking advantage of the superpowers they develop as a result. The game is also set in the same universe as the survival horror game Alan Wake, which also sees normal people dealing with supernatural entities. It’s unknown if the game will also connect to the Alan Wake sequel that’s also in development, but it’s still an exciting time to be a fan of this shared sci-fi horror universe. So, that’s all we know about Control 2 so far. Controversial game returns to Steam despite developers condemning it Running with Scissors / SteamThe infamously controversial game franchise Postal has had its third entry make an unexpected return to Steam. Postal 3 was previously abandoned by its developers and removed by Valve. Steam has had its fair share of games removed by Valve for various reasons over the years from small indie games to big-budget titles. Once they are removed by the PC gaming giant, games rarely appear on Steam again. The game franchise Postal has been widely known as the “most controversial” on the leading gaming platform, which over time has had many of its iterations removed. Now Postal 3, which was famously disowned and condemned by the series’ creators, has made a bizarre return to Steam after its initial removal from Valve due to “DRM issues” at the end of November 2022. Controversial Steam game makes bizzare return Developers Running With Scissors announced: “Despite being a dark chapter in the series, people should still be able to check the game out if they want. We did what we could to make it happen. “Featuring 100% less DRM (and a couple less crashes) for new and existing customers, Postal 3 is now back on Steam.” The controversial FPS was hit with the same criticisms as the previous titles in the series when it was originally launched on Steam in 2011. Aside from it being a bug-filled game with many players reporting crashes, it was also slated for being “gory,” “vulgar,” “cringey,” and even regarded as the “worst in the series.” Fans were left outraged, leading to the outsourced development team on the third entry abandoning it entirely. Now that a fourth Postal game has come and gone, the third entry returning to Steam after such a long time is certainly a surprise. Postal 3 has not been the only game that was abandoned by its developers. Only Up was removed from Steam by their creators in September due to “stress.”

  • Content Warning now lets you go viral in real life with Lost Footage Project – Dexerto

Content Warning now lets you go viral in real life with Lost Footage Project LandfallContent Warning has announced a contest called Lost Footage Project where players can go viral in real life. Popular indie title Content Warning is well-known for its co-op horror gameplay focused on players filming scary monsters like a vlogger and going viral in the game. Now developers at Landfall Games have announced an online contest where players can submit their clips and go viral. In unveiling the contest – titled the Lost Footage Project – on X, Landfall said it wanted to add ‘lost’ footage into Content Warning for other players to find in the game. Everyone is welcome to send their in-game camera footage via a linked Google Form and devs will choose their favorites to hide in the game. However, the video can only be of your saved in-game camera footage, and the content you upload needs to be unedited. You can also post your video on Youtube, TikTok, Instagram, or X, then share the link in the form or tag Landfall Games. If your video goes viral, your clip will more likely be chosen and featured in the game. However, participating players must be 18+ years of age and sign a waiver form in the Google Form to be eligible. Answering fan responses Landfall also said it’d prefer videos in English audio since it’ll be easier for developers to understand. Players can use light swearing, only one submission at a time is allowed, and submissions are open until the devs decide to close it. Since this is the first contest hosted for Content Warning players, excitement among the community is through the roof. One excited player said, “Oh Landfall do I have clips for you.” Another chimed in, “This would be so cool and hilarious.” While Content Warning is still going strong with its player count and buzz around streaming services, Landfall continues to deliver quality fixes to improve the game. With the arrival of a unique contest like the Lost Footage Project, the community can only hope to receive new content in the coming weeks.

  • Content Warning is an overnight hit thanks to one key element: Simplicity – Dexerto

Content Warning is an overnight hit thanks to one key element: Simplicity LandfallHorror games are renowned for their jumpscares, dark corners, and intense soundtracks — but Content Warning’s secret weapon is undeniably its unique graphics. Considering the likes of Baldur’s Gate 3, Dragons Dogma 2, The Outlast Trials, and even Amnesia, it’s clear great graphics are at the forefront of a vast majority of video games right now. After all, they can help an adventure feel immersive and can heighten the senses of those diving into terrifying basements or locations no sane person should really walk into without protection. However, Content Warning has proven that there’s no need for a dramatic soundtrack or realistic graphics when you have great jumpscares and weird monsters. Content Warning proves the horror isn’t just about looks When it comes to a great horror game, immersion is one of the keys to success. After all, you have to be glued to your screen in order for those jumpscares or unnerving monsters to frighten you. As such, many look to graphics to help create a terrifying atmosphere. Nevertheless, this is completely turned on its head by Content Warning, which has a more unique, deliberately lower quality design when compared to its AAA cousins. As soon as you descend into its dark, basement-style landscape, you’re met with a visual design that feels reminiscent of a scratchy drawing found in one of Outlast’s asylum rooms. The furniture, walls, and even floors feel threatening, and most give off an entirely intentional monster-like shadow, causing suspicion at every turn. What’s so interesting about this is the notion that you’re equally as immersed— if not even more so — by these graphics, despite them being rather ‘simplistic’ compared to games of a similar caliber. Such a design and a lack of dramatic music actually serve to heighten this game’s tension, creating a horror game fans are now obsessed with. It just goes to show that sometimes the look isn’t everything, especially when reality is thrown out of balance in a horror game like Content Warning.

  • Content Warning: How to mute players – Dexerto

Content Warning: How to mute players LandfallHere’s how to mute players in Content Warning if you’d like to avoid hearing toxic or annoying people in your lobbies. Content Warning lets you fulfill your dream as a horror vlogger, allowing you to explore dark and creepy places to record unsettling events. The thing is, given the multiplayer aspect of the game, it goes without saying that sometimes things may not always go pleasantly when it comes to voice chat or communicating in general. Perhaps you’re fed up with playing with a friend who loves to blast videos on their mic or someone toxic who can make the atmosphere unfun. If that’s the case, you’ll want to make sure you know how to mute players in Content Warning. How to mute players in Content Warning In Content Warning, you can mute other players by bringing up the pause menu and dragging the circle of those players’ bars to the left. To bring up the pause menu, all you need to do is press the escape key. Alternatively, if you’d prefer to be still able to hear them partially, you can also opt to turn down their volume by not dragging the circle entirely to the left. It’s all up to you. It can be challenging when you’re playing without callouts, though. The best thing to do here if you prefer to play with other players muted is to know how to deal with all the monsters in Content Warning. And if you’re not a fan of speaking to strangers, you can use the in-game emotes to show gestures to your teammates.

  • Content Warning: How to revive other players – Dexerto

Content Warning: How to revive other players LandfallContent Warning has sprung up as the new hot hit of 2024, here’s how to revive players if they fall prey to what lurks below. Landfall Publishing’s Content Warning has quickly become one of the hottest hits of 2024. The multiplayer horror title sees players try to venture into the Old World, in an attempt to capture the best content for clicks and cash. Of course, the Old World is filled to the brim with ancient archaic horrors of indescribable terror, ready to chow down. Has a friend fallen over to the terrors of the unknown? We’ve got you covered on how to revive them. How to revive other players in Content Warning In order to revive a friendly player in Content Warning, you’ll need a Defibrillator. These handy dandy items can be purchased from the store for $300, and are single-use only. That means you’ll want to avoid dying if you’re running low on cash since they can be pretty expensive early on in to a run. Once you have a Defibrillator, simply head over the dead body you want to revive and use the item on them. Since the Defibrillator is a single-use item, it’s important to know who exactly you’re choosing to revive, especially if some of your content crew are less than competent. It’s worth noting that you won’t be able to purchase a Defibrillator in the Old World as well, meaning you’ll have to purchase one on the surface before you descend, and can’t grab one once a player is downed. With that being said, you might get a tonne of views filming a player being revived, or conversely, a player being killed, so it may be a viable strategy if you’re looking to get the clicks rolling.

  • Content Warning devs rush to shut down all lobby size mods for one huge reason – Dexerto

Content Warning devs rush to shut down all lobby size mods for one huge reason LandfallContent Warning devs have shut down all mods related to increasing lobby size, citing one major reason for doing so. Content Warning has been the talk of the gaming community since it was released on Steam at the beginning of April 2024. The new horror experience bringing in major numbers on Steam, amassing an impressive player base less than a week from release. In the first few days of Content Warning, however, modders were hard at work to create additional content for the game as well as mods to help tweak in-game features such as the camera and more. Of all the mods already created, the most popular by far have been those that allow players to increase their lobby size from the standard 4. Adding further opportunity for multiplayer mayhem. However, these lobby size mods have already been taken down by dev team Landfall, the company citing one major reason for cracking down on those trying to increase the game from a four-player title. As spotted by DotEsports, an announcement made by a Content Warning modding Discord server moderator revealed why the devs are asking players to not create lobby-increasing mods. The moderator, known as Max on Discord, shared a screenshot between themself and one of Content Warning’s developers. The dev in question explained how these mods “would increase our cost as sometimes Steam can’t send the files, etc.” In other words, mods that increase the size of Content Warning’s lobby could indirectly be causing the devs to pay additional unforeseen costs due to these mods increasing the file size of servers. Though given how popular these mods have been already, there is a chance that the dev team will take this feedback and try to develop bigger in-game lobbies for players to dive into without needing to use mods.

Content Warning is one of those games that shadow drops on gamers and instantly goes viral in just a few hours, much like the similar indie horror title Lethal Company that was released in 2023. However, the new April Fools drop by Landfill Games allows players to be viral content creators in the game by filming horror videos in a haunted factory. You can team up with up to three more friends to head out to create spooky content in the game. While the indie game is already out for free until April 2, 2024, 11 am EST, there’s a mod that’s already been made that allows you to surpass the max player count in a session past four players. A team of modders at 753.network shared their creation on X which shows roughly eight to ten players in a single exploration session in Content Warning. This mod comes as a breakthrough for players who are finding it challenging to film viral content due to restrictions limited to film space or battery health of their equipment. “Amazing this is hilarious”, said one player. “Damn y’all modders work quick”, said another user. The modders also shared the link to their Discord server from where interested players can download the mod and get it working in the game, alongside the Content Warning modding community server. However, Landfall has recently released a patch that fixes infinite spawns in the game, hence players are questioning whether the mod would work after the hotfix or not. Regardless, this mod opens up several aspects for the modding community to come up with new ideas for such add-ons that would only elevate the fun players are having in Content Warning.

  • Conor McGregor trashes new UFC games in latest Twitter outburst – Dexerto

Conor McGregor trashes new UFC games in latest Twitter outburst Electronic ArtsIt doesn’t look like two-time UFC game cover star Conor McGregor is the biggest fan of EA’s recent attempts at capturing MMA in video game form, as the Irish mega-star just trashed the latest title in an outburst on Twitter. When it comes to video games focusing on the often-brutal combat sport of MMA, only a handful of developers have given it a shot over the years. Most prominently throughout the PS3 and Xbox 360 era, we saw THQ lead the charge with its immensely popular UFC Undisputed series. Since then, EA has been carrying the torch with the rebooted and simply titled ‘UFC’ games. Four entries in this revamped series have been released since 2014, with each one gradually implementing new features and fighters. Following up on the debut title, which featured Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson on the cover, Conor McGregor served as the face of the series across the next two releases. Although he was the big name spotlighted right up front, it appears the cover athlete isn’t a particularly big fan of the games he helped promote. In fact, McGregor just took the opportunity to lash out at EA’s newest release, UFC 4, amidst a flurry of tweets in a December 22 outburst. While most of his attention was on British YouTuber KSI, a fellow celeb who just so happens to be fighting McGregor’s former training partner Dillon Danis in January, McGregor soon pivoted to the UFC games. Sharing a picture of himself playing UFC 2 with none other than KSI, the Irish MMA icon couldn’t help but throw a haymaker at the game’s developer. “Damn those early UFC games [were] the best,” he said. “The new one is current garbáiste.” Directly translated to English, this Irish term means ‘garbage.’ Clearly, McGregor isn’t the biggest fan of the latest UFC titles, preferring the Undisputed style, perhaps for its action-packed gameplay or even its more aggressive combat. Seemingly having tried EA’s newer iterations, the former double champ isn’t quite the biggest fan. In years prior we’ve seen McGregor playing Call of Duty in the background of various videos, talking up his teenage stretch of lengthy gaming binges, and even starring in 2015’s Infinite Warfare in a minor villain role. So clearly an avid gamer himself, there’s no doubt he’s hopeful the next UFC game can recapture some former glory.

  • Concord slammed over “ugliest” character designs ever – Dexerto

Concord slammed over “ugliest” character designs ever Firewalk StudiosConcord has continued to receive a negative reception from the community, who have now heavily criticized the design of the newly revealed playable hero characters. Playstation’s new 5V5 hero-based shooter from Firewalk Studios, Concord, received a lukewarm welcome after its gameplay reveal during the State of Play presentation in May 2024. As more characters have been introduced, many were left disappointed with some of their designs. While Concord has gained negative attention for repeating the hero-based shooter concept and being directly compared to Overwatch, it’s also under fire for poor character design. One stated in a post: “Concord might have the ugliest character designs I have ever seen.” The hero on display here, “Emari,” was then slated by various users who flooded in to give their views on Concord’s character designs, “That just looks like the XCOM 2 character generator on shuffle.” Others consider the design outdated, “Yeah I’m not too keen on the character design either but I am also tired of the Pixar toon look that most team shooters have had since like 2007.” Referring to Team Fortress 2, a first-person shooter which released the same year and has been widely considered the first game to popularize the style. Concord released a gameplay and cinematic trailer of the characters on a mission, to which a commenter is a fan of the latter. “If there were a TV show starring the characters from that intro video we saw, I’d watch it. But as a 5v5 online-only MP game? Zero interest in it.” Among the criticisms, One person finds something positive about the character design, particularly the color scheme, which they think would suit a Warhammer 40K army. “This is a color palette I would unironically consider for a Death Guard or Nurgle army. The visual language of the greens and blues screams ‘dead/decay.’ I feel like they were going for army girl here, but I’m honestly expecting her stomach to open up into a disgusting toothy maw.” Concord is Firewalk Studios’ debut in the gaming world and PlayStation’s next gambit in live service games. Concord will be available for pre-order from June 6, 2024, and will be released on August 23, 2024, on PS5 and PC.

  • Concord’s few remaining players are throwing matches to race for its Platinum trophy – Dexerto

Concord’s few remaining players are throwing matches to race for its Platinum trophy SonyWith Concord’s imminent shutdown set in stone, the few players who still have their hands on copies of the game are literally throwing themselves off a cliff to try to get its Platinum trophy before servers go down for good. The same could be true of Steam, but people aren’t nearly as invested in achievements on that platform as they are in Platinum trophies on PlayStation. There are people like YouTuber Joelemz, who have made a living based around getting Platinum trophies, with them recording their journey through every trophy in the game to get that infamous Platinum. Soon, Concord’s Platinum has a chance of being the crown jewel in any Playstation trophy hunter’s cabinet, especially considering that it may be impossible to get it already if you haven’t been grinding. One of the biggest hurdles is the grind to level 100, as there is no way around it other than investing time into the game. Or, at least, that’d be true if it wasn’t for players purposely throwing matches to gain XP fast. Several clips of this practice have surfaced, with The Washington Post’s Gene Park hopping into a random match to confirm players are doing this. There’s a certain level of irony to this considering Concord’s status as one of gaming’s biggest flops of all time, and that the core game itself was pretty good. For the people out there who want to get at this Platinum trophy, it may already be too late for several reasons. Getting to level 100 takes a significant amount of grinding as it is, but the game has also been completely de-listed from both the PlayStation Store and Steam. What’s more, less than 1% of players have the Platinum trophy at the time of writing according to PSN Profiles, a total of 12 players. And, if the meta becomes players jumping off a cliff before the game even starts, it’ll be extremely difficult to get trophies related to achievements gained by playing the game normally. Considering how poorly the game sold, there may be literally dozens of players who have this trophy by the time it shuts down.

  • Concord selling for 10x retail price amid PlayStation shut down – Dexerto

Concord selling for 10x retail price amid PlayStation shut down Firewalk StudiosCopies of Concord are selling for 10x its retail price as PlayStation pulls the plug on their live service game after just two weeks on the market. Announced on September 4 by the Game Director at Firewalk Studios, Concord is going offline as a result of the game’s less than stellar launch. During its open beta, the hero shooter peaked at 2,388 players on Steam, and upon its full launch on August 23, it barely cracked 700 players. In response to the dismal release, all players were offered refunds as the devs figure out how to revive the game. As the game goes through its final hours, physical copy owners are now looking to hawk off their discs online, with prices going up to $400 AUD already (roughly $269 USD). When it was first released a few weeks ago, Concord retailed for $40 USD. Although not the cost of a AAA game, it is considered pricey for a live service game in the age of mostly free to play titles. With the game now going offline and seemingly relaunching in a new model, original copies of the physical game are being sold for over $150 USD or more, depending on whether it’s sealed or not. On release, you could also get a limited edition Concord DualSense controller which retailed for $85 USD. They are now selling for upwards of $500 USD. There are many overzealous sellers out there attempting to sell copies at $500 USD, in one case we’ve seen almost $1000 USD, however, for the most part, players are selling it for around $150 USD. If you weren’t part of the few thousand who purchased a physical copy, you can’t get one now. In fact, Concord has been pulled down from all stores, including digital storefronts such as Steam, Epic Games, and the PlayStation Store. In its dying hours, the only people who will get to play the game will be those who purchased a copy, so if you’re keen on being part of that but don’t have a copy, you might end up having to fork up the cash for it.

  • New PlayStation hero shooter Concord: Release date, platforms, Beta, more – Dexerto

New PlayStation hero shooter Concord: Release date, platforms, Beta, more Firewalk StudiosA year on from its reveal, Concord has finally been thrust into the spotlight. PlayStation’s very own live-service hero shooter now has a release date along with some early gameplay to give fans an early taste. Here’s everything you need to know. First unveiled back in 2023, Concord was highlighted as one of PlayStation Studios’ new efforts in the live-service space. While some of those projects, like The Last of Us Factions, haven’t seen the light of day, Concord has remained on track and now, it’s just around the corner. Initially described as a PVP FPS, we now know for certain Concord is effectively Sony’s answer to the hero shooter genre. The game pits characters with unique abilities and loadouts against one another in an endlessly replayable multiplayer setting. Following a deep dive during the May 2024 PlayStation State of Play event, we have a great deal of information about the upcoming release. From its Early Access Beta to the first gameplay details, here’s the full rundown on Concord. Contents: Release date – Is Concord Free to Play? – Platforms – System Requirements – Beta – Trailers – Gameplay details – Developers – Concord release date Concord is officially set to release on Friday, August 23, 2024. This release date was locked in as part of the full gameplay reveal during Sony’s May 2024 State of Play broadcast. Is Concord Free to Play? Concord is not Free to Play and instead releases as a full-price title. The game is set to release with two editions, the standard and deluxe versions, priced at $40 USD and $60 USD respectively. However, that’s not to say there won’t still be some stripped-back F2P version made available down the line, as we see with other hero shooters such as Overwatch 2, but we’ll just have to wait and see on that one. Concord platforms Concord is set to release simultaneously across both PS5 and PC. This marks just the second concurrent launch in Sony’s history following hot on the heels of the mega-popular Helldivers 2 from earlier this year, a launch that went on to shatter Sony’s player count records. There has been no word of a PS4 release, thus, it’s safe to assume Concorn is a current-gen-only title. Concord System Requirements Below you can find the PC system requirements for Concord: Minimum OS: Windows 10 64 bit – Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X – Memory: 8 GB DDR4 RAM – Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 6GB or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT – Storage: 30 GB SSD – DirectX: Version 12 – According to Firewalk, with these system specs and the graphics set to low, you should expect a minimum of 60 fps at 1080p. Recommended OS: Windows 64 bit – Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X – Memory: 16 GB DDR4 RAM – Graphics: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT – Storage: 30 GB SSD – DirectX: Version 12 – With these system specs, you can expect to be playing at 60 fps at 1080p on medium graphics settings. Performance OS: Windows 64 bit – Processor: Intel Core i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X – Memory: 16 GB DDR4 RAM – Graphics: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon RX 6800XT – Storage: 30 GB SSD – DirectX: Version 12 – You can expect to be playing at 60 fps at 1440p on high graphics settings. Of course, if you aren’t on a 1440p monitor but have similar PC hardware, you’ll be getting a higher fps performance. Ultra OS: Windows 10 64 bit – Processor: Intel Core i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X – Memory: 16 GB DDR4 RAM – Graphics: Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070Ti or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT – Storage: 30 GB SSD – DirectX: Version 12 – You can expect to get 60 fps at 4K while on ultra graphics settings. Concord Beta Concord’s Beta is just around the corner, with two weekends set to give prospective players their first taste of the action. It all kicks off with the Early Access Beta on July 12 through to July 14, before wrapping up with the Open Beta from July 18 to July 21. Those who pre-order Concord get access to the Early Access Beta, with the Open Beta then letting anyone check things out the next week. Concord trailers Concord Teaser Trailer Concord Reveal Cinematic Trailer Concord Gameplay Trailer Concord gameplay details Concord is a 5v5 hero shooter at its core, offering up a range of distinct characters with their own unique abilities. While FPS fundamentals have been paramount to the dev team “from the very beginning” as they strived to “make a tight, well-balanced FPS that feels great to play,” gunskill isn’t the only thing that’ll win you games. “Aim and thumb skill alone aren’t always enough to come out on top,” devs have teased. With a launch roster consisting of 16 characters, referred to as Freegunners, there’s already a number of game-changing abilities in focus, some may sound rather familiar. There’s a walling-off ability, much like Mei’s in Overwatch 2, that allows you to block off a line of sight. Meanwhile, another character can generate a ‘bullet-blocking’ dome, much like Winston’s bubble in Overwatch 2. There are even some explosive traps that Junkrat would certainly be a fan of. Two groups of Freegunners will do battle across several unique game modes, though the exact nature of how they play out and what the objectives are remain to be seen. Beyond moment-to-moment gameplay while out in combat, Concord is described as a live-service title that tells its story over time. New cinematics will be released on a weekly basis from launch, as devs give fans new story beats, character development, and the like, at a weekly cadence. Concord developers Concord is being developed by Firewalk Studios, a Washington-based dev team under the PlayStation Studios umbrella. Founded in 2018, the team has reportedly expanded to more than 100 full-time staff and is just now gearing up to release its debut project in Concord. Studio co-founder Ryan Ellis serves as the Game Director for Concord. Ellis is best known for his seven-year tenure at Bungie, having been credited as Destiny 2’s Creative Director, while also working as Technical Art Director for the original Destiny. Bungie just so happens to be a supporting studio for Concord. While the exact nature of the relationship is unclear, Bungie was acquired by Sony in 2022 for $3.6 billion, in large part, due to its expertise in the live-service space. So there’s every chance Bungie veterans have helped with the model for Concord’s ongoing stream of content.

  • Concord receives mysterious Steam update sparking hope of a revival – Dexerto

Concord receives mysterious Steam update sparking hope of a revival Firewalk StudiosConcord, Firewalk Studios’ ill-fated hero shooter, has been receiving backend updates on Steam, sparking hopes that it may yet rise from the ashes of its disastrous initial launch. Released on August 23 and taken offline just 10 days later as a result of minuscule player engagement and middling reviews, neither Firewalk nor publisher Sony indicated whether Concord would fly again. The former’s original statement only offered that it needed to “determine the best path ahead” while offering full refunds to any who had already purchased the game. Since being taken offline on September 6, Concord has received backend updates on Valve’s platform every day without fail. The latest, as of writing, was deployed on September 15. Due to the associated files in each being encrypted, it’s unknown what they include, but fans have allowed themselves to be cautiously optimistic if not intrigued by the development. “Seems Firewalk/Sony is still doing things behind the scenes. Curious to see how this will go,” said one onlooker sharing the discovery on Reddit, prompting others to join the discourse. “I hope they’re planning to bring it back in some way. It would suck to know that the game got canned before it even had a chance,” added another. Others held the opinion that character redesigns were necessary, should Firewalk ever intend to bring the shooter back. “I’d be willing to pay for the game if a redesign made them attractive,” they continued. Per Steam Charts, Concord’s all-time peak of concurrent players reached 660. As a fascinating aside, it would appear that some form of in-game activity – likely Firewalk itself – has continued post-shutdown, with two players recorded as having played within the last 24 hours. Does this hold any significance? Who knows, but it’ll be interesting to see what, if anything, happens from this point forward.

  • PlayStation’s 5v5 shooter Concord slammed with dislikes on trailer – Dexerto

PlayStation’s 5v5 shooter Concord slammed with dislikes on trailer Firewalk StudiosPlayStation’s new hero shooter has received a very negative reception from fans on YouTube as the dislikes pile up on the Concord gameplay trailer. Sony’s May 2024 State of Play presentation didn’t provide as many new game reveals as some players were hoping for. However, the show did confirm release dates for the Silent Hill 2 remake and God of War Ragnarok PC port, as well as a huge trailer featuring gameplay from the new Astro Bot game. Concord, the new 5v5, hero-based first-person shooter from Firewalk Studios, was among the announcements. The developers confirmed the release date and that a Beta was planned, but the game itself received a lukewarm reception. Since then, the gameplay trailer has received thousands of dislikes on YouTube. Concord’s trailer on YouTube has a dislike ratio of 3 to 1, which looks a lot worse when compared to Astro Bot’s trailer, which has received double the views and mass approval from fans. With a hero system similar to Blizzard’s Overwatch and gunplay comparable to Destiny 2’s Crucible PVP mode, Gamers rally in the comment section, noting that Concord lacks any trait that makes it stand out. One comment described the game as a parody, saying: “It’s like a parody game of every trope in the modern West Coast game dev sphere. It even has the turquoise blue media backgrounds and the quirky millennial writer quips at the end of the trailer I refuse to believe this is not in fact a parody game.” The cinematic trailer for Concord leans heavily into the characters bantering with one another, a stark contrast to the gameplay trailer. As another points out, “I was slightly interested until I realized it wasn’t a single-player space RPG like Mass Effect and was instead a multiplayer live service shooter. I’m not sure why they went with a narrative CG trailer start when none of it means anything for this type of game.” Concord is available for pre-order from June 6, 2024, and will be released on August 23, 2024, on PS5 and PC.

  • Not even 100 Concord players earned its Platinum Trophy before servers shut down – Dexerto

Not even 100 Concord players earned its Platinum Trophy before servers shut down SonyBased on Trophy data, less than 100 players earned the Concord Platinum Trophy before Sony shut down the failed game’s servers. Firewalk’s hero shooter Concord broke records for all the wrong reasons, having been taken offline a mere 10 days after debuting on PC and PS5. Sony and Firewalk gave Concord’s small user base a heads up at least, so players had three days to enjoy as much of the experience as possible before servers shut down permanently. As a result, some took on the challenge of trying to earn the Platinum Trophy, knowing it would count among the most rare. Players even purposefully threw matches in their Trophy-hunting efforts by throwing themselves off cliffs to end rounds early. But the data shows not everyone was up to the task. According to PSN Profiles, only 70 people popped the Platinum Trophy – Living Legend – before Concord’s deletion. It’s worth noting that PSN Profiles only tracks the progress of players who link their PSN Accounts. And since just a fraction of the PlayStation audience uses the website in question, these numbers are skewed. Still, reason suggests around 100 people may have gone through the trouble of getting the Trophy whose PSN Profiles rarity sits at 4.42 percent. Whether or not these figures will ever change remains to be seen. Firewalk said it will explore future options for Concord, yet there is no guarantee of its return. Sony has not shared sales information about the game, but industry analysts estimate Concord sold around 25,000 copies in total. Weak beta impressions, middling review scores, and the “ugly” character designs didn’t do the multiplayer shooter any favors. Sony’s push to make a name for itself in the live-service space doesn’t end here, either. The publisher acquired Haven Studios in 2022, presumably after seeing something worthwhile in the developer’s Fairgames, a competitive heist game currently in production for PC and PS5.

There’s an early access Beta planned as well, letting fans jump in well ahead of the game’s full release on August 23. • Concord devs explain why they’ll never add a battle pass and players are puzzled – Dexerto

Concord devs explain why they’ll never add a battle pass and players are puzzled Firewalk StudiosBefore its release, Concord’s devs explained why it does not feature a battle pass and why they’ll never add one, and players are puzzled by Firewalk’s decision. Concord’s early access period is now underway, with the game only a day away from its global release on PC and PS5. The 5v5 shooter held an open beta in July, but it did not draw a large number of players. Those who did appreciate the game lauded its gameplay, matchmaking, and retro-futuristic UI. Upon release, it will provide players with access to every character; however, the game itself costs $40 and needs a PlayStation Plus subscription and a PSN account linked to a PC to play. Despite this, Concord’s creators have said that all forthcoming content on their roadmap will be free of charge, and owners will receive the latest content immediately. Yet, the game lacks a Battle Pass, which leaves many players perplexed given that it is a PvP shooter. Mark DeRidder, the game’s animation director, stated on X that the game will never contain a Battle Pass, telling users: “No Battle Pass, folks. You own Concord, Concord doesn’t own you.” This action by the developers split the community, with numerous users praising them for it, while those who don’t like the game being a paid purchase, outright rejected it. One player said: “Bold move, but I like it! Everyone keeps screaming for a Battle Pass in every game nowadays. I liked the beta, so see you soon!” Another user who is a fan of the game wrote: “I really like this move. Makes me feel less hesitant to buy it at launch.” However, a user who doesn’t like the game’s concept replied: “Another live service that nobody asked for into the meat grinder.” Another one chimed in: “I actually don’t own Concord, nor will I ever. Though I’m sure the devs and their modern audience prefer it that way.” With the game already facing criticism for its character design since its reveal, read our preview on why Sony’s venture into the PvP shooter genre falls short of its potential.

  • Concord doesn’t look like PlayStation’s Overwatch — it looks like its Lawbreakers – Dexerto

Concord doesn’t look like PlayStation’s Overwatch — it looks like its Lawbreakers Firewalk StudiosThe May 2024 PlayStation State of Play felt a little more muted than many were expecting. With Summer Games Fest around the corner, there were hopes Sony might bring the fire of E3 shows of old. This is especially true because PlayStation’s current slate of games feels like they’re missing something big, exciting, and blockbuster-y. Many were hoping we might see what’s next from Naughty Dog, New Spider-Man DLC, Ghosts of Tsushima 2, or Marathon. Instead, it was a lower-key affair, with the biggest Sony first-party game being Concord, outside of Astro Bot. The debut game from Firewalk Studios is a hero-based 5 v 5 arena shooter that will be looking to muscle into an already crowded space. I’m not sure what is happening now, but it feels like we’re in a bit of a surge period for hero shooters. Concord, Star Wars Hunters, and Marvel Rivals (which also appeared at the showcase) are all making plays to make their name. Of course, it’s Overwatch’s shadow that looms long over the genre, and it’s not taken long for Blizzard’s game to be thrown around in comparison to Concord. On the surface, it makes sense – it’s a character-based shooter where everyone has their own abilities mixed with fast multiplayer action. That said, while there are definitely bigger characters, and there are instances of healing, the game doesn’t seem to be about having a couple of supports, damage players, and a tank. Instead, it seems to be far more interested in open gunplay in an arena. This doesn’t really look or feel like Overwatch at all. No, it feels much closer to Lawbreakers. Lawbreakers was good! Okay, I know that sounds like it’s meant to be a burn. It’s not, but I understand why people might get that vibe. Lawbreakers was notorious for being a high-profile live service failure. The arena shooter was published by Netease and created by Cliff Bleszinski’s Boss Key Studios. It was released in August 2017, but sadly, just one year later, its servers were shut down. The thing with Lawbreakers, though, was that it was actually a pretty great game. It was a highly mobile arena shooter, with hero abilities, but still a focus on gunplay and neutral fights. The low-gravity and objective-based play made for fast matches that were pretty exciting. It, too, somehow got the Overwatch-like moniker attached to it, but to me, that never really stuck. Lawbreakers was far more Quake than it was Blizzard’s moba-inspired shooter. Concord looks like it could be on a similar fate. The Overwatch comparisons are already hounding the game, despite the fact that the gameplay shown looks very different. This is movement and gunplay-focused combat with abilities supplementary to you actually aiming at people. Hell, there is even an objective with a little robot face on it in both the gameplay trailer and the cinematic trailer. This is deeply reminiscent of the Justin Roiland voiced objective that players fought over in Lawbreakers. The comparisons are quite staggering. At a price As I said, I don’t mean the Lawbreakers comparison to be critical of Concord. I liked Lawbreakers quite a bit. Concord also has a huge focus on storytelling by bringing in new cutscenes every week to push forward its universe. There’s enough uniqueness here to make it stand out. However, while my comparison is meant to invoke the positive things about Lawbreakers, there is a lingering, foreboding feeling over the game, too. The sense that Firewalk Studios might be walking directly into the same mistakes again. This space has come to be dominated by free-to-play games. Having players able to jump in and play a popular shooter with their friends with no hassle is a strong win for games like Warzone, Fortnite, and Overwatch 2. However, from the wording in the official blog post accompanying the announcement, the game will have pre-orders, suggesting it might be a paid-for game. Lawbreakers also decided to forgo the free-to-play route (well, except for a few months before the game shut down.) It joined the market just as free-to-play games were becoming the norm for online shooters, and the prospect of paying an entry fee for an online multiplayer game became a harder sell. It’s not the only reason, but it added to this sense that Lawbreakers was a good game that was released at the wrong time. It’s not yet confirmed what pay model Concord has, with more info coming soon. However, if it is going to be a retail-priced game – it’s hard to see it finding a wide audience. Maybe people would find the ability to pay a one-time fee for an online multiplayer game again novel. However, it would have to be a one-time fee and not just a fee on top of a game that is also monetized aggressively. Those that came before Concord has had a rocky take-off; that much is clear. The PlayStation audience doesn’t seem very enamored with it, with the trailer garnering a ton of dislikes on YouTube. A wide sentiment seems to point to a general hero shooter fatigue, especially with more and more being announced. Concord will have an uphill battle either way. While it doesn’t look very Overwatch, that comparison is likely going to stick, just as it did unfairly to Lawbreakers. That said, it’s still early days. Lawbreakers was a fun game that was handled poorly and released at the wrong time. If Concord is a good game, is handled better, and ends up hitting at just the right time, it might have a good chance of staying around. It’s worth keeping in mind that all of this is speculative, too. We’ve only seen snippets of gameplay, modes, and characters. Once we get hands-on in July as part of the beta, we will be able to talk much more concretely. However, in order to succeed, Concord needs to chart its own path in the stars to get to that place of viability because right now, it looks like it’s already following in the tracks of those games that came before and perished.

  • Concord character tier list: Best Freegunners ranked – Dexerto

Concord character tier list: Best Freegunners ranked Firewalk Studios/DexertoConcord has a wide variety of characters to choose from, each with its own unique playstyles and abilities, and in our ultimate tier list, we have ranked the best to the worst. The characters in Concord are divided into six classes: Anchor, Breacher, Haunt, Ranger, Tactician, and Warden. Each of these classes grants a distinct advantage to your crew, from mobility to dodge capabilities, so you’ll need to consider your crew’s balance before you lock in your ideal Freegunner. All 16 Freegunners, including those from the Northstar Crew, were unlocked at the Early Access launch that kicked off on August 20, 2024. With the game now live, players can use our tier list to choose the ideal character to suit their playstyle. Concord Character tier list Our tiers explained S: The best characters in the game – A: Very good characters offering an alternative to other options – B: There might be situations where these characters can perform well – C: Best to avoid unless you find yourself drawn to them – Here is a deep dive into each option in our Concord character tier list, ranked from the best to the worst. S-Tier characters in Concord IT-Z IT-Z is a fun Freegunner who belongs to the Haunt class and is by far the best character in the game. She carries a quick-firing SMG in her loadout and offers improved mobility to the team as a crew bonus. Her dodge maneuvers leave a holographic image of her behind as she moves quickly around the map. But IT-Z’s Cosmic Slip ability is where she flourishes as she fires an orb and teleports to the location as per the player’s choice, leaving opponents baffled. IT-Z also has an overpowered ability where she fires a projectile towards an enemy and upon contact, gets a weapon buff which supercharges her SMG with increased fire rate and reload time. With full buffs, she’s got a great skill ceiling that players can easily master who like to stay on the move. Roka If you love raining down fire on your opponents from above, then Roka is your ideal bet in Concord. She’s got three mobility abilities packed into her move set where you can hover in the air, soar using your rockets, and triple jump. Roka is an excellent Haunt-class Freegunner who adds increased mobility as a crew bonus and has a pretty strong area denial. You can easily soar in the air while locking your missiles on enemies below and cause havoc in an area. To perfect Roka, you need to spam dodge while evading enemies and keep hovering around to overpower the other team. 1-Off 1-Off is one of the best tank characters in Concord. He belongs to the Anchor class and is ideal as the first line of attack for any team. His massive health bar enables him to take hits from enemies and even smash them to the ground. His vacuum and pressure blaster weapons have a learning curve but are powerful and can damage multiple enemies at once. He also has the move Trash Bomb that deals AoE damage to the opposing team, allowing your Haunts and Tacticians to deliver the final blow. Star Child Star Child is another tank in Concord and is a Breacher class Freegunner. His primary weapon is a shotgun that packs a punch with a high damage rate and lesser recoil. His best abilities come with his physical prowess, where he dodges enemy attacks and rushes towards them. Each time he performs a dodge, rush, or power slam, Star Child gains a temporary Diamond Skin armor around him that protects him from incoming damage. This character has great movement abilities and is perfect for engaging and disengaging in a match as you flank or rush down low-health enemies. A-Tier characters in Concord Haymar Haymar is a Warden-class Freegunner in Concord who has burst damage abilities. She wields a crossbow that shoots flame balls at enemies, which are lethal if fired accurately. She’s also got excellent mobility, allowing her to dodge and fire a projectile at an enemy that can blind their vision temporarily. Furthermore, Haymar can also create walls of fire to damage enemies or block the opposing team from pushing your area. While she’s good at rushing enemies and in is helpful in teamplay, she falls short in some 1v1s until you’ve mastered her style of gameplay. Teo Teo is a fragger in Concord who belongs to the Ranger class and brings improved weapon recoil to the table as a crew bonus. He has good mobility and can double jump and double dodge consecutively while firing his rifle or pistol. However, Teo’s weapons aren’t as effective as his grenade abilities, including a smoke grenade that can bamboozle enemies and throw them off guard. Smoke lets him disengage, or engage with his team to take a fight. He can also throw frag grenades that come in handy for camping enemies. Daw Daw is a Tactician and one of the best healers in Concord. Even though his hitboxes are big, he’s one of the best support characters your team can have. He places health pods for teammates and summons shield domes that protect your allies against incoming fire. He also has a burst rifle that has minimum recoil and boasts large health that allows you to be the frontline of any crew. While Daw mostly underperforms in 1v1 battles, with team-based strategy and proper comms, he can be a real asset to any team. Vale Vale is the only sniper in Concord and is quite good at inflicting heavy damage on enemies. If you’re looking to hit trick shots with a sniper, Vale’s abilities allow you to leap in the air while quick sniping or no scoping your opponents in a single shot. She can also strategically place Trip Mines near the opposing team’s spawn areas or campers to make way for her team to push forward. While her secondary weapon is not as powerful, Vale is meant to shine when you’re attacking at a distance. Lennox Lennox is a pure DPS play Freegunner in Concord who belongs to the Warden class. He’s great at damaging enemies with his Handguns but requires you to consistently land headshots to maintain the same damage output. Other than that, Lennox’s health regeneration abilities come in handy while he’s closing in on opponents and throwing an exploding knife for a final blow. Overall, he’s great to use if you aim well and like heavy-hitting gunplay in FPS games. B-Tier characters in Concord Emari Emari is an exceptional tank with high DPS and survivability. She belongs to the Anchor class, which can dominate frontlines and support the team effectively. Emari has solid defensive options, such as granting armor to allies or summoning a shield barrier around herself. She also has enough health to challenge opponents and keep them back while your team pushes in for an attack. However, there are Freegunners who can overpower her with their quick maneuvers and abilities, meaning Emari falls short of higher tiers. Kyps Kyps is a lot of fun to play as in Concord. She’s a Tactician class Freegunner that enables stealth on every dodge where you can sneak in near or behind the enemy within a few seconds. She fires a rather basic Silenced Pistol but doesn’t have any offensive abilities that can damage the opposing team. However, Kyps shines as a supporting character who throws trackers on walls that reveal enemy locations. She also has throwables that disrupt enemy abilities and break their shields for your teammates to push forward. Duchess Duchess is a Ranger in Concord whose primary objective is to build walls to block the enemy team’s path and cause an AoE blast damage around the opposing team’s base. She carries a Submachine Gun which is fairly decent but she can perform well when the entire team has great coordination. However, standalone Duchess is an average Freegunner who is best used only when your team needs a high-skill player to defend them in locked locations. Bazz Bazz requires high skill to master in Concord. She’s a Haunt-class Freegunner who tracks enemies through walls and throws deadly knives at them. Her lunging strike is deadly and deals critical damage to enemies. She can also do spinning attacks with knives to inflict a decent area damage. Bazz’s mobility abilities are useful, allowing her to dodge and strafe sideways while attacking the enemy. This is perfect for 1v1. Ultimately, your success with Bazz depends on your skill set and how effectively your teammates support your attack and strategy. C-Tier characters in Concord Jabali Jabali is the weakest healer and support character in Concord. He’s a Ranger class Freegunner who heals allies and damages enemies using orbs. Unfortunately, Jabali’s heals are too slow and he carries a weak weapon that almost does no damage to enemies. It’s like he’s being carried the entire time by his team and he’s just there to offer his medic services, even though he falls short there as well. Daveers Daveers is an AoE character who is great at clearing out areas. She belongs to the Breacher class and throws grenades and Burnite pools toward enemies that inflict overtime damage. She’s got a strong area denial quality but lacks consistent damage output when it comes to 1v1 battles. Daveers performs better in objective modes than in direct combat scenarios where weapon efficacy matters most. Lark Lark is simply a spore monster in Concord that performs exactly as you expect him to, providing minimal team buffs and nothing more. He throws Spore pods around the map that slow down enemies and deal almost no damage while they’re in it. His Crew Bonus, which increases reload speed for the entire team, comes in handy. Apart from that, though, it’s best to avoid using Lark as a Freegunner in Concord. That’s our Concord character tier list with the best Freegunners you can use. Be sure to check out if it runs on a Steam Deck, and all maps and modes. To stay in the loop on more about the game, we’ve got everything you need in our main hub.

  • Everything we know about ConcernedApe’s Haunted Chocolatier: Plot, gameplay details & more – Dexerto

Everything we know about ConcernedApe’s Haunted Chocolatier: Plot, gameplay details & more ConcernedApeStardew Valley creator Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone has revealed his next game, so here’s everything we know about Haunted Chocolatier thus far, including plot, gameplay details, and the announcement trailer. Following the success of the beloved farming simulator Stardew Valley in 2016, fans long wondered what the next title under ConcernedApe’s belt would be. Back in early 2020, the solo game developer teased that he was working on new projects, and on October 21, 2021, he finally revealed his next venture: Haunted Chocolatier. Here’s everything we know about the game. Announcement trailer On October 21, 2021, ConcernedApe released the announcement trailer for the game that showcased the gameplay and gave a glimpse at new characters, including Lily, blacksmith Burk, Maddie, and Jett. Is there a release date? There’s currently no release date set for Haunted Chocolatier. In fact, ConcernedApe revealed that development only really started in 2020, so it could still be a ways off, given he’s a lone developer. “I haven’t even gotten to the good stuff yet. I’ve been mostly working on the ‘meat and potatoes’ of the game so far,” he said in an early blog post. In August 2024, ConcernedApe shared more bad news on Twitter. “I have not touched Haunted Chocolatier in a long time because I am committed to finalizing Stardew 1.6 first,” he wrote in a longer tweet apologizing to Stardew players on console and mobile. The game’s 1.6 update, which released on PC in March 2024, still has not come to other platforms. With no release date or window announced for that, it could be a while before ConcernedApe can get back to working on Haunted Chocolatier. Platforms According to the FAQ section of the Haunted Chocolatier site, the only platform we can expect Haunted Chocolatier to release on at the moment is PC. However, the creator has highlighted that he has “every intention of bringing [Haunted Chocolatier] to the other major platforms as well”. It just might not be at launch. What is Haunted Chocolatier about? The developer has kept tight-lipped about the plot of his next game so far. But what we do know is that you will play as a chocolatier managing a confectionery shop inside a castle filled with ghosts. You make your own chocolate, going out and gathering ingredients for your recipes, which you then sell once it’s made. In a blog post, ConcernedApe revealed that it is very much “another “town game”, where you move to a new town and try your hand at a new way of living,” but is “quite a bit different” compared to Stardew Valley. Gameplay details Despite looking like Stardew Valley at first glance with the pixel art style, Haunted Chocolatier is very different. Yes, it features a town with townspeople you interact with, but you trade a cozy farmhouse for a dark castle. The single-player game is an action RPG, meaning battles play a big part in the gameplay. You defeat enemies like slimes and crows and forage for ingredients, before taking it back to your kitchen to craft your chocolate. One particular screenshot even shows off a boss fight with a giant bee. It appears as though you can invite townsfolk to your castle, and have one-on-one interactions with villagers, even being able to choose conversation options. One such visitor was revealed in September 2023, as ConcernedApe continued his usual cadence of releasing one new screenshot at a time. Here, we see an elderly man waking from a “terrible dream.” Who could he be? Well, one theory suggests he may be the very same Grandpa from Stardew Valley, implying the worlds are connected. We’ll just have to wait and see if that’s indeed the case. Haunted Chocolatier revealed design To celebrate 1 million followers, Concerned Ape, the mind behind Haunted Chocolatier shared a few images of the upcoming Haunted Chocolatier. You can see them below: That’s everything we currently know about Haunted Chocolatier. As more information is made available, we’ll be sure to update you right here at Dexerto. In the meantime, check out our hubs on other upcoming games like GTA 6 and Hollow Knight Silksong.

  • ConcernedApe’s new bee-themed Haunted Chocolatier preview has fans buzzing – Dexerto

ConcernedApe’s new bee-themed Haunted Chocolatier preview has fans buzzing ConcernedApeStardew Valley developer ConcernedApe has shared a new image from the upcoming Haunted Chocolatier and fans are sharing their excitement in droves. ConcernedApe first announced development was underway for Haunted Chocolatier back in October 2021 and as time drags on, the benevolent developer has shared a few more teasers along the way, This time around, the updates all center around the introduction of a cave that looks to be controlled by a giant bee that the player character will have to defeat while in the creature’s lair. The image is just a start to the party though. Haunted Chocolatier preview shows off bee combat It has been known for some time now that the Stardew Valley follow-up will have a deeper combat system than its predecessor. While it’s impossible to make out what that might consist of in this particular fight, it does look like a traditional boss battle. There’s also the matter of the tiles that are lighting up on the ground which might also play a part in the bigger puzzle. This would be exciting enough for fans on its own, but it comes as part of a two-pack update, with a soundtrack teaser also being dropped right afterward. Naturally, this surprise drop drew a big reaction from eager fans. Quotes like “This game is looking cooler by the day” and “when this game comes out, nobody will hear from or see me for 6 months” have filled up the replies, making a clear impression of where the community stands on these additions. They may be chomping at the bit to get their hands on the game, but ConcernedApe has been very clear that he’ll be taking his time in delivering this one to the masses.

  • Community reacts to leaked photos of PS5 devkit and new controller – Dexerto

Community reacts to leaked photos of PS5 devkit and new controller The game development kits for Sony’s iteration of the next generation of consoles are out and about and in the hands of game developers. Leaked images of the kits appeared online, and fans were surprised to see what this dev-only version of the PS5 looked like. Sony and PlayStation fans will have to wait one more year to get their hands on retail version of the PS5, a staple system of the next generation of video game consoles. But game developers need their hands on those consoles now if they want to be included in the collection of launch titles, which are pivotal in determining a new console’s early-game success. An image shared by Twitter user Alcoholikaust appears to show two dev kits side-by-side. https://twitter.com/Alcoholikaust/status/1200796076535623681 The dev kit PS5s have two wired controllers on top of and to the side of them, and the same Twitter user that posted the photo says that these are the new Dualshock 5 controllers. These controllers don’t have the trademark light under the charging port, and that port appears to be a USB-C instead of the traditional micro USB. For those confused about the look of the PS5 dev kits, dev kits, in general, do look drastically different from the eventual retail version. You can see in the background to the right are two PS4 dev kits, and the dev kit for the PS4 looks like a toner printer. Twitter was filled with replies echoing the above sentiment; that the PS5 will likely not look like the dev kit. Some even shared the image of the PS4 dev kit shown above as evidence to this fact, while others jokingly shared images of what the original Xbox was going to look like. Some suspected that the V is to represent the Roman numeral for 5, but The Verge’s senior editor Tom Warren insists that the design is to allow stacking and proper airflow. yes, this is the PlayStation 5 devkit. The reason it’s large and v-shaped is to make them more easily stackable for devs who are running multiple stress tests. The cooling is optimized to push air out of the sides and center https://t.co/pc3wJw2A6v — Tom Warren (@tomwarren) November 30, 2019 Some users still expressed concern that the PS5 might run especially loud if Sony keeps this fan design, while others are worried about potential heat issues if the system requires that sort of extensive air cooling system. The loud fan noise from the PS4 has been a common complaint for that console. The PlayStation 5 was confirmed back in October, and images of these dev kits confirm the designs that were leaked back in August.

  • College student puts their Valorant gameplay on display in an art gallery – Dexerto

College student puts their Valorant gameplay on display in an art gallery Riot GamesA college student put up a recording of their Valorant gameplay in an art gallery. Rather than putting together a conventional piece like the other students, they displayed their gameplay as art instead. Valorant is a very skill-expressive game. For those who have mastered their agent and have deadeye aim, they’re able to flex on the competition with style. For others, it’s all about fun. The very best Valorant pros in the world make it look easy, when, in reality, clutching out a 1v5 and outsmarting the opponent takes a great deal of effort and practice. But could you call gameplay art? A university student set out to answer that question by putting their Valorant gameplay on display in a gallery instead of creating what one would typically think of as art. College student uses Valorant gameplay as “modern art” At a university art exhibit, Tik Tokker yvessdrop noticed something strange. In a gallery filled with art from students going to college there, one piece stood out. Rather than being on canvas, someone put their Valorant gameplay on a screen for the world to see and hear. Sound from the game was blaring through the TV speakers. The exhibit has certainly started a conversation. The gameplay appeared to be from either a stream or recorded video, complete with a cat holding an SMG in place of a face cam and laughter from their Valorant teammates playing through the speakers. It is, if nothing else, bizarre. That said, people in the replies seemed to be overall positive on the art piece. Even if they weren’t too sure what to make of it, commenters supported the student’s decision for the most part. However, there were some differing opinions, with one user saying, “there comes a time when the subjectiveness of art can seriously be debated”. At the time of writing, it isn’t known why this student chose to post their Valorant gameplay rather than an art piece more in line with the others.

  • College Football 25 update addresses frequent roughing the kicker penalties – Dexerto

College Football 25 update addresses frequent roughing the kicker penalties EA SportsA small update for College Football 25 addresses annoying roughing the kicker penalties and fixes a few other lingering bugs. Among a slew of other issues in CFB 25, such as Recruiting glitches and flaws in sim logic currently plaguing the Dynasty game mode, players have slammed “ridiculous” inconsistent penalty calls. Specifically, players pointed out that wide receivers get obstructed a lot but don’t get penalized for pass interference, and linemen illegally run downfield too much on RPO plays. But arguably most frustrating, AI-controlled players regularly get called for roughing the kicker on field goals and extra points. This was a problem because the penalty resulted in first downs for the opponent, and there was nothing you could do about it. EA didn’t address the other penalty inconsistencies but did finally fix the roughing the kicker issue in the July 30 update. The patch reduced the frequency of roughing the kicker penalties from AI players on field goals. Previously, players had to change their defensive formation so AI users didn’t have an opportunity to get to the kicker. However, this also posed problems, as it became impossible to block kicks. After this change, players will be able to use field goal-blocking formations again without fear. The patch also fixed the away team not being able to change offensive audibles in Online head-to-head and fixed a rare issue of the snap going behind the QB. EA promised a larger title update “in the near future” that will feature a full Campus Huddle blog going over changes to each game mode. For more on College Football 25, check out our guides on the best playbooks, and how to recruit in Dynasty mode.

  • College Football 25 switch stick explained: How to intercept a pass – Dexerto

College Football 25 switch stick explained: How to intercept a pass EA SportsIntercepting a pass in College Football 25 is relatively simple, and the new switch stick feature makes life for quarterbacks even more difficult. Defending in College Football 25 is not for the faint of heart. Running backs and wide receivers regularly juke defenders out of their shoes, and trying to complete an open-field tackle requires skill and patience. A few settings can be changed to aid defenders, but learning to stop offenses consistently will still be challenging for any seasoned football veteran. However, the new switch stick feature swings the pendulum back in the favor of defenders. How to intercept a pass in College Football 25 To intercept a pass in College Football 25, you must press triangle on PlayStation or Y on Xbox while controlling the defender closest to the incoming pass. Players can use the new switch stick feature to switch to the defender closest to the incoming pass. By flicking the right stick in the direction of the incoming pass, you will switch into a different defender and have a chance to make a play on the ball. If you control defensive linemen, players can press in on the left stick and O on the PlayStation or B on the Xbox to switch directionally. Usually, flicking the right stick is how to perform a hit stick on defense, but EA explained, “Once the quarterback has thrown the ball or crosses the line of scrimmage, the right stick turns back into the hit stick.” Switching into a different defender and pressing Y or triangle before the pass comes in doesn’t guarantee an interception. Using the switch stick comes with the risk of switching directionally too early or late, resulting in an easy catch and possible score for the receiver. In saying that, we recommend learning how to use the switch stick, as it will come in handy when making a play on defense. For more, check out our guide on how to kick in College Football 25.

  • College Football 25 RPO explained: How to use run-pass option – Dexerto

College Football 25 RPO explained: How to use run-pass option EA SPORTSIf you struggle on offense in College Football 25, Run-pass option plays elevate your game to another level. Mastering RPO requires skill and patience, but the learning curve is worth it. On a RPO play, the quarterback either hands the ball off to the running back or passes, depending on defensive alignments and how defenders react post-snap. If executed correctly, an offense can catch a defense off-guard and rack up easy yards. However, if the quarterback makes the wrong read, defenses can capitalize on a mistake and take the ball back the other way. College Football 25 features a large assortment of RPO options, and it’s up to players to make the correct read. How to use RPO plays in College Football 25 For an RPO play, If you want to run the ball with the running back, don’t press any buttons after snapping the ball. If you want the quarterback to keep the ball and look for a pass, hold X on PlayStation or A on Xbox as the running back steps in for the handoff. The key to making the correct decision is watching how the linebackers react. Look for a pass if the middle or outside linebackers rush toward the running back. But if the linebackers drop into coverage, hand the ball off, and exploit the hole left behind. Linebackers are the key defensive players to watch, but players must also know what the cornerbacks are doing. Most RPO plays are simple passes out wide into the flat. There is always a threat that cornerbacks can step in front of those routes for a simple pick-six, so players must be wary of that. We recommend learning RPO plays in the open practice game mode before taking them out into a game. When you can master this mechanic, defending turns into a nightmare. However, many have been reporting early problems with the servers as they jump back in after an 11-year wait. So, if you were wondering about College Football 25’s server status, here is everything you need to know. Are College Football 25 servers down? The College Football 25 servers are currently up and running. While some players are still encountering issues, and likely will for the immediate future, College Football 25 is mostly playable now. Still, if you are running into problems, we recommend doing the following before contacting EA’s support about the problem: Check your wifi and make sure your connections are stable – Run an internet speed test – Make sure you have the latest update downloaded for College Football 25 – If the problem persists after ensuring everything on your end is good, then the issue will be on the server side, and you’ll need to wait for the developers to fix it. • College Football 25 Road to Glory deep dive details damage system & effects of NIL deals – Dexerto

College Football 25 Road to Glory deep dive details damage system & effects of NIL deals EA SportsThe latest College Football 25 deep dive focused on Road to Glory, modified for the modern-day college athlete. Rather than just focusing on football and studies, players now need to navigate the realities of NIL agreements and plan for the future. It’s been a busy past few days for EA Sports. The developers of College Football 25 released the top 100 players list on July 10, giving fans a look at which players will be on top for kickoff in mid-July. On July 11, the focus turned to Road to Glory. Road to Glory, NCAA Football’s career mode, is returning for College Football 25. But, things will look quite different. Much of the changes have been made to replicate the authentic experience of being a college football star. In a developer deep dive, the College Football 25 team detailed their inspiration for Road to Glory. Much like for Dynasty, the developers spoke with those in the know, and in this case, current and former college athletes. Thus, players must manage the real-life tasks of a college athlete. This includes managing the GPA, taking care of one’s body and training, being a leader, and winning football games. College Football 25 players can choose multiple pathways at the starting point of Road to Glory, whether it be a 5-Star Recruit or a low-rated one. From there, choose an archetype that affects the build of the player. Then, the recruiting process begins. Schools will have an interest bar and users will know how a player stacks up on their depth chart and scholarship status. Once a school is chosen, the road begins. Players will need to go through practice to get a coach’s trust to improve depth chart positioning and additional playcalling responsibilities. Team-building activities will build leadership roles. There are also GPA thresholds. Those with below a 2.0 GPA are ineligible for games. However, a GPA above 3.0 unlocks a Fan Favorite Mental Ability. Also, the damage system, injuries sustained during games in College Football 25, will not automatically recover during the week. Rest periods, though, will heal injuries and wear and tear. Other components of Road to Glory include scenarios that can positively or negatively affect growth and name, image, and likeness (NIL) deals. NIL deals will take up energy, but will also come with in-game attribute bonuses and off-field bonuses. The latter can include increasing followers for brand growth or health upgrades. Much like with Dynasty, the Transfer Portal will be present in Road to Glory. Here, players can change schools to pursue other opportunities. And, EA finished off by re-confirming avatars can be exported to Madden 25 upon the completion of Road to Glory. Be sure to check out what else is coming to College Football 25.

  • College Football 25 red and green diamonds explained in Dynasty – Dexerto

College Football 25 red and green diamonds explained in Dynasty EA SportsDynasty mode in College Football 25 rewards players for investing in recruiting with the gem and bust system and red and green diamonds are a big part of this. If utilized correctly, you can bring the best players into your roster and avoid those who won’t perform as expected. Every season in Dynasty mode, users are tasked with recruiting incoming freshmen. Throughout the year, recruits narrow down their list of top schools, before ultimately deciding. Understanding red and green diamonds in the gems and busts system is an ideal place to start if you want to know which athletes to target for your program. What do red and green diamonds mean in College Football 25? Red diamonds indicate a bust in College Football 25 Dynasty, and green diamonds signify a gem. For example, if a bust is a four-star prospect, they are a three-star level talent. Meanwhile, a four-star gem is a five-star recruit. To discover if a player is a bust or gem, players must complete 100% of scouting on a prospect. To do this, you spend hours uncovering a prospect’s top attributes. You will see a bust or a gem icon in the top left of a recruit’s profile if they are either. In saying that, not every recruit will be a gem or a bust. A player’s star rating is accurate if they don’t have either icon. Even if a recruit is a bust, that doesn’t mean they aren’t worth signing. A five star talent bust being a four star talent is still a great player to have in most college football programs, and four star busts can also contribute. If you coach a smaller program, gems are a great way to swoop up top-level talent that may have slipped through the cracks. And some gems end up not actually being that valuable if their development trait is slower than other recruits. Every program is different, and will change how you approach utilizing this system. That’s everything you need to know about red and green diamonds in College Football 25. • College Football 25 redshirting explained: How to use in RTG & Dynasty – Dexerto

College Football 25 redshirting explained: How to use in RTG & Dynasty Dexerto / EA SportsRedshirting in college football refers to a player sitting out for a season to maintain their four years of eligibility. College Football 25 players can use redshirting to their advantage in Road to Glory and Dynasty to get an extra year. In professional sports sim franchises like Madden or MLB The Show, you can create a player and go through as many seasons as you want. However, college athletes only have four years of eligibility, meaning College Football 25 Road to Glory journeys are short. Fortunately, you can import your Road to Glory save to Madden 25, extending a player’s career further. If players want to make the most of their limited time in Road to Glory and Dynasty though, redshirting is a great option. How to redshirt players in Road to Glory & Dynasty modes If players do not play a snap in at least four games during their freshman year in College Football 25 Road to Glory, they automatically earn redshirt status and can play an extra year. In Dynasty, if there is no place for a talented freshman, you can redshirt them. To do this, you must select them in the roster screen and choose to redshirt them before the season starts. In Road to Glory, players cannot control when they play, making it more challenging to earn redshirt status. So, with that in mind, we recommend committing to a four or five-star school where it’s less likely you will get snaps. When choosing a school, it shows you the top three players in your position on the depth chart. If you want redshirt status, search for a school with three players rated much higher than you, so there’s less chance to steal snaps from them. That’s all there is to know about redshirting in College Football 25. For more on the game, check out best offense & defense playbooks, redshirting explained, the best pipelines, all teams in College Football 25, and how to enable play selection in Road to Glory.

  • College Football 25 players want old NCAA Football feature to come back – Dexerto

College Football 25 players want old NCAA Football feature to come back EA SportsCollege Football 25 Dynasty mode doesn’t track previous Playoff National Championship and Heisman winners or team stats from previous seasons. Since all of this information was in NCAA 14, players questioned why it would be removed. Now that CFB 25’s honeymoon period is over, community members have raised concerns over a few glaring issues holding the title back from reaching its full potential. Road to Glory users called out EA for a flawed upgrade system, limited plays, and a broken depth chart. Meanwhile, Dynasty players highlighted sim-logic and recruiting issues as serious hindrances. In response, EA addressed those Dynasty concerns, and plans to make more changes in a larger update. However, community members still have other issues with the game mode that haven’t been specifically mentioned by the development team. CFB 25 Dynasty players want detailed team and player stats A CFB 25 player argued on Reddit that there is “essentially zero history” in Dynasty mode since stats and awards aren’t tracked from previous seasons. “That’s what pisses me off. Many of these features were in NCAA Football 13 & 14. But they took them out,” one user argued. Some player decided to take matters into their own and track their own stats from Dynasty saves. A user shared their Google spreadsheet for other community members to manually log information. “One of my WRs won the heisman twice, set the alltime career receiving yards, receptions, and td records. Didn’t even get drafted, and now is gone to the ether, no record of his Heismans, 1st team or all americans,” a second player claimed.” For Dynasty fans that take on long rebuilds of 10 years or longer, it’s nice to look back at previous classes and their accomplishments. But a lack of any historical evidence detracts from the overall experience, and frustrations are escalating. It’s unclear what exactly EA has up it’s sleeve for the upcoming significant update coming “in the near future,” but Dynasty fans hope that improved stat tracking will be included.

  • College Football 25 players slam “ridiculous” inconsistent penalty calls – Dexerto

College Football 25 players slam “ridiculous” inconsistent penalty calls EA SportsSports fans often yell at their televisions over bad calls made by officials, but College Football 25 players didn’t expect that to be an issue in a video game. For all of the love EA Sports has received for faithfully replicating the pageantry and tradition of College Football, the sports-sim title also suffers from a few troubling issues. Recruiting glitches and flaws in sim logic currently plague the Dynasty game mode. Meanwhile, a bug in Road to Dynasty allowed a created player to be fully upgraded after one practice. EA has already addressed some of these problems and promised more changes. Despite those efforts, players are losing patience with some hiccups, including incorrect or non-existent penalty calls. A frustrated College Football 25 user argued on Reddit that there are not enough late-hit penalties when players are hit after a play out of bounds. Community members agreed and also pointed out other inconsistencies. “The amount of times it’s been 4th and 12+ plus and roughing the kicker has led to the offense keeping the ball, then scoring a TD, is incalculable,” one player responded. Even if the user is not controlling a defender on the edge during a kick, it’s become common for the CPU to rough the kicker and cost you. Some players have started using different formations to counter this annoying bug, but then it becomes impossible to block a kick. “My favorite is when your receiver breaks across the field and the LB/DB runs into him and you throw the ball because he should be open but instead it’s intercepted,” a second commenter added. Other comments agreed that wide receivers get obstructed on many plays, but the penalty goes uncalled. “Ineligible receiver downfield was killing me on RPOs in Road to Glory,” a third player claimed. There is nothing more frustrating than using a run, pass, or option play and the offensive lineman starting to run up the field unprompted. This results in a penalty, and players cannot do anything to prevent it from happening. On July 28, College Football 25’s creative director, Scott O’Gallagher, confirmed that they’ll soon be fixing another big issue. EA hasn’t revealed what that refers to, but some players hope it’s a fix for wrong penalty calls.

  • College Football 25 players keep getting absolutely “crazy” Dynasty recruit names – Dexerto

College Football 25 players keep getting absolutely “crazy” Dynasty recruit names Graphics: EA SPORTSCollege Football 25 players are getting some “crazy” recruit names in Dynasty mode, including namesakes of some of the biggest celebrities in the world. After more than 4000 days, college football fans finally have a new game to play, as EA SPORTS’ College Football 25 has finally launched for everyone. The new game has had some rave reviews from fans, but it hasn’t been totally smooth sailing – especially if you’re a fan of the Dynasty mode. As players have been rebuilding some of their favorite college programs in Dynatasy, they’ve encountered issues with recruiting, the Super Sim logic making no sense, and troubles upgrading their coaches. However, some of those issues are starting to be ironed out. On the flip side of things, though, players have been having plenty of fun with some of the recruits they’ve been getting – especially when it comes to their auto-generated names. Some players have been getting the namesakes of celebrities like Elton John, Kevin Durant, Morgan Freeman, Paul McCartney, and even Peter Parker. Yes, Spider-Man’s alter ego has popped up in Dynasty. “This might be the craziest name yet,” Redditor Swampert173 said upon getting Elton John as a defensive end. Aside from getting celebrity names and references to pop culture – yes, there have been multiple Kevin McCalister recruits – there have also been strange double-up names. These have included Tyree Tyree, Brock Brock, and Everett Everett. There is also the bizarre Coco Chocolatey, Shaq Chocolatey, and Jacob Chocolatey generators. “I wonder if Key and Peele had a hand creating the name generator,” one fan added, referring to their infamous NFL skit. As noted, the devs are making some changes to Dynasty in the near future, so maybe the name generator will also get some tweaks. Though, we absolutely don’t want to see the end of Lightning McQueen popping up. There isn’t anything better than having him at wide receiver.

  • College Football 25 players question lack of mass subs to help counter wear and tear – Dexerto

College Football 25 players question lack of mass subs to help counter wear and tear EA SportsWear and tear is a new damage system in College Football 25 that forces users to be savvy with their roster management, but that’s not easy when it’s hard to substitute players. In CFB 25, players have to be smart about when and where they take hits. Wear and tear accurately tracks the impact of every hit and fall. For example, if a running back takes a huge shot to his knee or lower leg, he won’t be as explosive on the following set of plays. To avoid getting injured, players can get the ball out early, cover up the ball, or get out of bounds before taking a hit. However, it’s almost impossible to avoid all contact in football, meaning there will be instances where you will want to make substitutions before wear and tear results in a significant injury. That’s easier said than done though, as a player on Reddit asked, “What exactly is the point of 85-man rosters and a realistic wear-and-tear system when it’s so tedious to rotate players?” To make a substitution in CFB 25, you must pause and change the depth chart. Some players argue that it should be easier to rotate their roster, as there aren’t any different subs based on formation, and starters don’t automatically come out all the time in a blowout. In addition, unlike the NFL, college football teams usually rotate more frequently, meaning CFB 25 should have that option available. “The fact that I have to check my depth chart weekly is infuriating. I want my 76 ovr elite WR to play slot and sky rocket to his potential,” one user said. And that frustration only gets amplified when you consider that NCAA 14 had a feature that made it possible to set your roster rotations before a game, depending on formation. “I spent about half an hour every offseason customizing my playbook to put certain skill players on certain formations based on their speed/catch ratings. It’s a shame that over a decade later, that isn’t even in the new game,” one user claimed. If there were more accessibility options to make changes, there would be less injuries because of the wear and tear system. “I hate having to go into the depth chart to switch between my RBs because my starter is at “severe” risk of injury, yet they won’t auto-sub him out until he finally gets hurt,” a third commenter added. It’s unclear if EA plans to streamline substitutions. However, some players hope the development team will improve this in the upcoming major update.

  • College Football 25 players keep finding Dynasty recruits with broken stats – Dexerto

College Football 25 players keep finding Dynasty recruits with broken stats EAOne of the most important mechanics in College Football 25 Dynasty mode is recruiting, and players have found some insane recruits with completely broken stats. Multiple CFB 25 players have posted on social media about finding recruits in Dynasty, with over 100 rated stats in some areas. The most commonly inflated category seems to be speed, with one player posting about finding a recruit out of Florida with 102-rated quickness. With 102 speed, this recruit is faster than some of the game’s quickest players, like Peyton Lewis, Chris Johnson Jr., and Gavin Sawchuk. “102 speed would have me handing this kid keys to a Ferrari,” YouTuber NotTheExpert said in response to the recruit’s crazy stats. Based on the social media posts, it looks like the recruits with these inflated stats come from the Florida pipeline and hover around the four-star rating. These recruits are generated at random by the game, so players cannot find these overpowered prospects again and again. However, enough players have posted about it that it seems Dynasty mode has a few hidden gems stashed away on the recruiting trail for players who put the work in. EA has yet to comment on whether these inflated stats for recruits are intentional or if this is a bug that needs fixing. Regardless, CFB 25 Dynasty players should take note of this phenomenon and try to use it to their advantage while building up their school of choice. Recruiting new players for future seasons can be a fun but hard task in Dynasty, depending on the school players have chosen. Snagging the top recruit in the class can be a big boon for the program, but finding these hidden prospects with over 100 rated attributes in almost any stat category might be the way to go.

  • College Football 25 players have one big warning as mass subs added at long last – Dexerto

College Football 25 players have one big warning as mass subs added at long last EA SportsMass Subs have finally been added to College Football 25. However, fans have got one big problem with them and they’re trying to warn others about it. When College Football 25 was released back in July, longtime fans of EA’s football series were delighted. It marked the first time they had a new game to play in over a decade, and it was met with much fanfare. However, things haven’t been completely smooth sailing since launch. There has been a laundry list of issues with popular modes like Dynasty and Road To Glory. EA SPORTS has been trying to address them, rolling out a few title updates in the last few weeks. The most recent update – which came on August 29 – finally introduced Mass Subs to Dynasty. So, at last, your second-string players can be called upon with just one button press. Yet, despite the long-awaited feature now being a thing, players are concerned that it ruins some Redshirt players. “Mass subs does not respect redshirted players and will play them regardless of redshirt status,” warned one Redditor. “Thus, you will lose redshirt status on many underclassmen if you mass sub backups frequently.” “I will add that even if your redshirted backup does not play on offense or defense, he may end up in kick coverage duty or FG team etc,” Redditor OrdinaryAd8716 warned. “I would not use mass subs unless you don’t care about your redshirts losing one of their four games of eligibility.” Another player complained: “Every little thing you wish for in this game comes with a genie-in-a-bottle type of catch with it that makes you regret your wish.” So, unless EA rolls out another update addressing this, you’ll have to make notes about the games your Redshirts play. You don’t want them to lose eligibility too soon.

  • College Football 25 players have one massive issue with August 8 update – Dexerto

College Football 25 players have one massive issue with August 8 update EA SportsCollege Football 25 fans have got a big issue with the game following the August 8 update patch, with some calling it “unplayable” right now. After more than a decade of waiting, College Football fans finally got what they wanted as EA SPORTS released College Football 25. Over a million players have wasted no time diving into Road to Glory and Dynasty, looking to make their mark on their favorite college programs. Despite how popular the game has been, it hasn’t been completely smooth sailing. Players have complained about glitches in Dynasty with recruiting, tackling being broken, and Sim Logic not making sense. Well, the August 8 patch – the first major post-launch update for CFB 25 – addressed many of these problems. It was initially celebrated by players, however, they’ve all got a big issue with it – and that’s poor play from Offensive Linemen. “Post patch OLine is straight up paper,” Redditor SpicyXGarry said, posting a video of their offensive line offering no protection to the quarterback. “This is like every pass play too,” one player agreed. “Game is approaching unplayable after Patch. Like, granted there were issues pre-patch but for the most part, the gameplay was incredibly fun. Now it’s a crapshoot if you want to play a game,” another added. “Game is worse after the patch,” another commented. Some fans have, however, found a silver lining from the poor OLine play. “The absolutely pathetic OLine play in CFB25 has made me learn a whole slew of quick hitter plays,” one noted. Others have been trying to use in-game sliders to address it. Yet, players are even split on that. “I’ve felt the sliders were a placebo since day one. I’ve never noticed a difference,” another said. Given that it is becoming a pain point for players, EA will have to look into it before long. Hopefully, it’ll be addressed quickly.

  • College Football 25 players flame EA for “disappointing” Road to Glory mode – Dexerto

College Football 25 players flame EA for “disappointing” Road to Glory mode EA SportsDespite College Football 25 receiving generally positive reviews, some players argued that the Road to Glory game mode failed to meet expectations due to a few glaring flaws. Road to Glory tasks users with creating a player and taking on the life of a student-athlete. Players must manage their weekly schedule, GPA, and image, earn Coach Trust to get more playing time, and pursue a Heisman trophy on the field. At launch, the game mode suffered from a glitch that transformed players into superstars overnight as one practice awarded tens of thousands of XP. So, created players could go from a 60 to a 98 overall, defeating the purpose of the journey. EA patched the issue, but there are still a few other lingering problems that players want the development team to address. A frustrated CFB 25 player took to Twitter and argued, “They did a pretty bad job with Road to Glory.” The individual pointed out the flawed upgrade system as a catch is worth 67 XP, while a yard is just worth one. As a result, it’s hard to earn skill points to upgrade your player at a realistic rate. To counter this, players can alter XP gain in the sliders, making it easier for their created player to improve faster. A second user claimed, “play calling is abysmal.” Road to Glory doesn’t allow the player to pick plays. Coaches choose plays and players have a limited amount of changes based on how much coach trust they have earned. However, instead of getting access to the full playbook, users can only choose from three alternative plays after using a change. “I don’t like it either, a third user responded. “Im the starter and I’m a higher rating than the other guy at my position but he gets way more snaps than me.” Higher overalls don’t necessarily translate to snap counts. Depending on your position, there are instances where the coach will take you out of the game for crucial moments which shouldn’t happen. For all of the positives from Road to Glory and how fun it is to take a player on a four year journey, it’s clear that players want a few changes to improve the experience. With that in mind, EA promised a major update “in the near future” that’s set to make significant changes in every game mode.

  • College Football 25 players discover trick to change player numbers in Dynasty – Dexerto

College Football 25 players discover trick to change player numbers in Dynasty EA SportsCollege Football 25 players found a loophole that allows them to change players in Dynasty, but it comes with a catch. On Aug. 8, CFB received its first major update. Dynasty fans made their voices heard and complained that the game mode suffered from illogical sim logic and several recruiting bugs. EA listened to community feedback by fixing an issue with recruiting visits and reducing the variance in College Football Playoff poll logic. In addition, the patch made FCS schools less powerful and made recruiting top prospects harder for small schools. However, some fans also held out hope that the update would make it possible for users to change the numbers of their players. The change never came to fruition, so community members took matters into their own hands. How to change a quarterback’s number in CFB 25 Dynasty On Reddit, a player provided a step-by-step guide on changing a player’s number. The catch is that it only applies to quarterbacks. If players have the same number go into their edit player menu in Dynasty – Flick the left stick left and right a few times on the number option – Press A on Xbox or X on PlayStation to conform the change – Back out, and the quarterback’s number will be changed – We went into a Stanford Dynasty mode save and confirmed that this trick works by changing a corner back’s number from nine. After following those steps, the quarterback went from number four to nine. But, for this trick to work, you need to have two players on your roster with the same number. The OP claimed, “you can also use the trick to get a defensive player to switch to 21, and so on and so on. wont work 100% of the time but i did change 3 players numbers to get my QB to be able to wear 8.” However, if a player on the roster takes number zero or 49, it is unlikely that there will be a duplicate number. Community members still hope that EA will give players full control in a future update. For now, this is the only option available. For more on Dynasty, check out our guides on Pipelines and what the red and green diamonds are.

  • College Football 25 players discover trick to skip long halftime shows – Dexerto

College Football 25 players discover trick to skip long halftime shows EA SportsCollege Football 25 players discovered a simple trick to skip the long and sometimes tedious intro, halftime, and outro cutscenes. After getting blown out in a game or having a bad half, the last thing you want to do is watch an extended highlight reel of your blunders. Currently, no menu prompt shows you how to skip cutscenes. EA put an extensive amount of work into accurately nailing stadium and game day presentations for all 134 FBS schools. However, when you are in the fifth year of a Dynasty rebuild, there will be times when you would rather jump straight into the action than watch the same intro for the 100th time. Even though College Football 25 doesn’t explicitly tell players how to skip these cutscenes, players discovered a simple workaround most users most likely overlooked. How to skip cutscenes in College Football 25 A CFB 25 player shared that you can skip any cutscene by holding A on Xbox or X on PlayStation. While it may seem easy, many users admitted they had no idea this was an option. “I’ve been smashing all buttons like an idiot,” one player admitted. “I was holding down all face buttons and all trigger buttons. My controller is grateful for this tip,” a second commenter added. In Madden, an icon at the bottom of the screen shows how to skip highlights, and players argued that EA should have done the same with this title. “That seems like an oversight,” a third player argued. “I never played Madden. I’ve literally just been waiting because I thought I tried everything.” If you are interested in more tips that aren’t explicitly shared, check out our guides on calling a fair catch and using the new switch stick to intercept a pass.

  • College Football 25 players discover secret teammate high five celebration – Dexerto

College Football 25 players discover secret teammate high five celebration EA SportsCollege Football 25 players discovered a disrespectful celebration run guaranteed to break controllers, but it won’t be easy to pull off. There is a lengthy list of celebrations for interceptions, getting a first down, and scoring a touchdown in College Football 25. Celebration runs differ because they can be performed during a play by pressing either LT + RT + A (for Xbox) or L2 + R2 + X (for PlayStation). A College 25 player discovered that if you perform a celebration run next to a teammate, they will high-five each other and continue celebrating after reaching the end zone. This is likely a reference to NFL superstar Tyreke Hill, who infamously gave his teammate a high-five while running back an 86-yard punt return for a touchdown back in 2016. Having teammates next to each other running in open space alone is unlikely. But if you have two speedy cornerbacks or receivers, pulling out this celebration is the ultimate form of disrespect against an opponent. Celebration runs are risky because slowing down to showboat gives a defender a chance to sneak up behind and strip the ball. “Just be careful because if you get hit at all while celebrating, you will fumble. I found this out the hard way,” a player responded. Players set out to see if there are more celebration possibilities in College Football 25 when running in open space. “I’ve seen one where you slow down, hold the ball out, then put it down in the end zone and jog off, and another one where you basically take two steps in the end zone jogging and turn around,” a user claimed. EA put several easter eggs in College Football 25 that players have yet to discover. For more, check out our recruiting guide, and what upcoming changes are coming to Dynasty mode.

  • College Football 25 pass rush system explained: Clubs, swats, more – Dexerto

College Football 25 pass rush system explained: Clubs, swats, more EA SportsCollege Football 25’s pass rush points system challenges players to outsmart and overpower defensive linemen strategically. During the Xbox One/PlayStation 4 days of Madden, EA Sports introduced a modified pass rush system to the franchise. Now, it’s part of the College Football 25 franchise and players must make decisions defensively because of it. Choosing which player to want to user control on defense in CFB 25 comes down to personal preference. Some users prefer the middle linebacker, while others prefer to sit in the secondary and hunt interceptions. Meanwhile, a segment of the player base also loves mixing it up in the trenches and getting to the quarterback. Racking up sacks and forcing fumbles as a defensive lineman starts with understanding the pass rush points system and which moves you can use. But, how does the pass rush system for defensive linemen work? Here’s what to know. What do the blue dots mean on a defensive lineman? Blue dots over a defensive lineman’s head indicate how many pass rush points they have. If a player performs a successful pass-rush move, they get to keep the dot, which is indicated by a green check mark. However, if a defensive lineman fails to get past an offensive lineman, they lose a dot. Players with more dots have a higher chance of completing a pass rush. Every player has a different number of blue dots depending on their attributes. In addition, if you use the same pass rush move too many times, the offensive lineman will develop resistance. The more filled with red, the more resistant to rush moves that blocker is to the current player you’re controlling. If you slide around on the line, you’ll notice that whoever you line up with it shows their meter, showing you that the lineman has a higher resistance built up to your moves. Every pass rusher move in College Football 25 Here is a list of every pass rush move in College Football 25: Rip: Flick up on the right stick – Bull rush: Flick down on the right stick – Club/swim left: Flick left on the right stick – Club/swim right: Flick right on the right stick – Swat: Press Y on Xbox or Triangle on PlayStation – Speed Rush: RT on Xbox or R2 on PlayStation – Contain: LT on Xbox or L2 on PlayStation – Switch player: B on Xbox or O on PlayStation – Mixing up your moves is the key to consistently getting to the quarterback. In saying that, player attributes are also factored into this equation. So, if the defensive lineman is much lower overall than an offensive lineman, they are likelier to lose a matchup regardless of what move you use. However, players who can master the pass rush points system will succeed more in getting sacks and disrupting passes. • College Football 25 players all have a big problem with “awful” feature – Dexerto

College Football 25 players all have a big problem with “awful” feature EA SPORTSEA SPORTS College Football 25 has given fans almost everything they want in a College Football title, but there is one big problem that they’re all encountering. After more than 4000 days, College Football fans have been able to put NCAA 14 to rest as EA SPORTS College Football 25 has finally launched. The new title has gotten rave reviews already, especially when it comes to the Dynasty and Road to Glory modes. Of course, after an 11-year hiatus, the new release has come with some pretty big upgrades for those popular modes, including changes to recruiting and storylines for your created players. However, there are also some flaws, with the biggest – according to players – being the simulation engine for when you need to save some time or just don’t feel like playing a game. According to some players, the new sim engine needs fixing right away. “Not really a bug but the sim logic is awful. Worst than the old games, that needs to be fixed ASAP,” commented one annoyed fan. “Worse than 14, hopefully if we bitch about it enough EA will fix it,” another agreed. “Sim logic in Dynasty is really bad. Way too many FCS upsets and bad teams beating elite programs. A one-off scenario is cool and feels real, but consistently seeing Bama lose to WKU is obnoxious,” another player complained. “This is really my only huge complaint so far. The sim engine is one of the worst I have seen in any sports game. It’s completely random and nonsensical most of the time and it really fucking kills the immersion into dynasty,” another added. Some players noted that there are similar patterns when simulating too, with the AI regularly scoring with a minute to go in the fourth quarter. “The problem is that the best and worst teams are only 20 overall apart lol,” another added, with one player suggesting that there needs to be weights for more prestigious programs. EA CFB 25 is currently in early access and doesn’t release for everyone until July 19, so we’ll likely see a day one patch anyway. Hopefully, the sim fixes aren’t too far behind.

  • College Football 25 glitch turns Road to Glory player into a superstar after one practice – Dexerto

College Football 25 glitch turns Road to Glory player into a superstar after one practice EA SportsCollege Football 25 players unintentionally achieved everything in Road to Glory on early access launch day because of an XP glitch that supercharges their rating. A College Football 25 player posted on Reddit that they got tens of thousands of XP after one practice. So even though they only started as a 60 overall three-star recruit, they received 160 skill points and turned into a 98 overall player overnight. Some players embraced the glitch because it gave them a fast track to becoming one of the best players in college football, and it’s fun to dominate opponents. However, users on the other side of the aisle argue that this glitch defeats the whole purpose of the mode and should be removed immediately. One player responded, “You’ll never have the opportunity to play as a maxed-out RTG player after the update. You’ll have years to play as a 2-star.” But while a segment of a player base wants to enjoy this hiccup while it’s there, others argue that the glitch has ruined their experience. Because while putting up crazy stats is always fun, if you start as a 60 overall part of the enjoyment is slowly progressing and earning every attribute point. “It completely ruins the point of the whole mode. I started as a 2-star, and now I’m the highest-rated running back in the nation after three weeks… Just going to delete and wait for a patch,” a second user argued. That hasn’t stopped players from begging the devs to hold off on releasing a patch until the worldwide release so they can take advantage of it themselves. College Football 25 officially launches on July 19. “EA, please don’t fix the glitch before the broke people (me) get to play,” a third player pleaded. The College Football 25 development team hasn’t addressed this issue. If players still want to take advantage of the early access period they can either purchase the Deluxe or MVP editions.

  • College Football 25 griddy celebration explained – Dexerto

College Football 25 griddy celebration explained EA SportsCollege Football 25 features a large selection of celebrations for first downs, interceptions, and touchdowns, including the infamous griddy dance move. There is no excessive celebration penalty in College Football 25, meaning players can showboat to their heart’s content. EA ensured that by giving players plenty of different options to show off and also added secret celebrations that aren’t explicitly mentioned in the settings. One of the most popular celebrations across the NFL and College Football is the griddy. NFL superstar star wide Justin Jefferson first popularized the dance in 2021 and it has since taken over the sport. College Football 25 paid homage to Jefferson by including the dance and named it after the receiver’s alma mater, Louisiana State University. How to griddy in College Football 25 To do the griddy celebration in College Football 25, press L2 on PlayStation or LT on Xbox and flick the right stick up. Instead of calling the celebration the griddy, EA called it the Tiger Swag as a nod to Justin Jefferson since LSU’s mascot is Mike the Tiger, and the star receiver played at LSU in college. This dance is only available as a touchdown celebration and isn’t available to do after an interception or first down. If players want to rub it in even more, they can do a celebration run while running into the end zone by pressing either LT, RT, and A on Xbox or L2, R2, and X on PlayStation before ending with a Tiger Swag dance after scoring. • College Football 25 devs reveal big fix coming but fans aren’t sure for what – Dexerto

College Football 25 devs reveal big fix coming but fans aren’t sure for what EA SportsThe EA SPORTS College Football 25 devs have confirmed a fix is coming for one of the game’s biggest issues, but players aren’t sure what is being addressed. When EA SPORTS College Football 25 first launched, it filled a massive nostalgia hole for players. They’d waited more than 4,000 days for a new installment in the popular franchise, and were quick to explore their favorite modes of Dynasty and Road to Glory. However, a few weeks into the game’s launch, and it hasn’t been entirely smooth sailing. There have been a number of issues in Dynasty with regards to recruits, coaches being upgraded, and the game’s Sim Logic. EA SPORTS have already rolled out a few patches to address some of these issues, and have promised to keep things in check. Well, on July 28, the College Football 25 creative director – Scott O’Gallagher – confirmed that they’ll soon be fixing another big issue. “I see it. We got something coming for it,” O’Gallagher posted on X/Twitter. However, players are a little in the dark about it, noting that it could relate to a number of issues. “Do not fix Judkins,” one fan said, referring to the spin move of Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins. That spin move has already been called a “cheat code” by fans and it has even been taken off the table in money matches between competitive players. Others asked if it related to the ‘scum’ kicks that have appeared in online games, where players have been taken advantage of squib kicks. “Tell us Scott,” one player urged. “Whats this mean?” another quizzed. “This tweet could be 10-15 different or more bugs man what you mean “it” commented another. It remains to be seen what exactly O’Gallagher is referring to and what will be fixed in-game, but players have a growing wishlist of fixes across different modes.
