Pokimane loses it in hilarious Overwatch 2 rage: “I can’t do this sh*t” Twitch/.PokimanePokimane has been diving into Overwatch 2, with her recent stream including some very big reactions from the content creator during some particularly heated games of Overwatch. While Pokimane took a big break from streaming and content creation earlier in 2022, the gaming icon is now much more present on social media and streaming. In celebration of Halloween, Pokimane decided to hop on and play some Overwatch 2. To make the experience even better, the streamer was even decked out in a D.Va Halloween costume. And while she went into the game excited and calm, things quickly took a turn for the worst. During her most recent Twitch stream, Pokimane can be heard raging during some particularly tense moments of Overwatch 2. A compilation of her rage moments was re-uploaded by NoobHunter. When pushing the objective in one particular match, she was yelling at the other team to “get off of my little healers,” jokingly calling the other team “rude” for doing so. When an enemy tank was trying to take her down, she questioned why they were “so close to us.” When said tank eliminated her, Pokimane raged, shouting, “what do you mean? What the f**k do you mean…Why the f**k are you alive for real. Like what the hell. I pin you, I hit you, me dead. You pull me, I’m dead.” However, she quickly laughed off the moment, expressing how she “can’t” with this game and questioning whether she should “just not be playing this game.” So for first impressions, Overwatch 2 clearly didn’t go down well with Pokimane. We’ll just have to wait and see if she decides to try again in the near future or if this was a one-off D.Va appearance.

Pokimane opens up on Valorant ranked issues: “People get weird about me being a girl” – Dexerto
Pokimane opens up on Valorant ranked issues: “People get weird about me being a girl” Twitter: @pokimanelol / Riot GamesTwitch star streamer Pokimane opened up on Twitter about her struggles climbing ranked Valorant, saying it’s hard being a girl using voice communication. Valorant is a game that requires its players to coordinate with each other using voice comms. Players who speak to their teammates in solo-queue typically have an easier time playing as a team than those who play muted and use only pings to communicate information. Pokimane used her secondary Twitter account to lament on the issues of being a girl and a famous streamer attempting to climb in ranked mode. Pokimane on climbing ranked Valorant On her alternate Twitter account under her real name Imane, Pokimane tweeted about how her brother reached Immortal rank in Valorant, and how it’s inspired her to grind the game to reach that level. She talked about the struggles of using voice-comms in-game being a girl who happens to be one of the biggest streamers on Twitch, saying, “i find my biggest issue is i don’t like to talk too much in game (ppl get weird about me being a girl / being poki), and that doesn’t work with being a sova main. and i don’t have a dependable duo to comm on my behalf.” Voice comms are quite necessary at that high level of play, and those who don’t use the feature are going to be at a disadvantage. Being Pokimane while trying to climb also seems difficult as players are going to be more mesmerized by being on her team rather than working together to win a match. i find my biggest issue is i don’t like to talk too much in game (ppl get weird about me being a girl / being poki), and that doesn’t work with being a sova main 🥲 and i don’t have a dependable duo to comm on my behalf ~ so i’m gonna look for one + learn solo q agents 😌 — imane 👑💜 (@imane) August 27, 2021 She also mentioned that being a Sova main makes this more of a problem as Sova players need to communicate quite often. Poki says she is going to learn more solo-queue agents, as well as find a solid partner to duo with.

Pokimane launches $100k scholarship to help student gamers – Dexerto
Pokimane launches $100k scholarship to help student gamers PokimaneTwitch streamer and influencer Imane “Pokimane” Anys is continuing her tradition of helping student gamers with their tuition, this time launching a scholarship worth $100k. Pokimane declared in 2020 that she would be giving away money to student gamers through scholarships every year “forever,” and she’s kept that promise a year on. The creator has come together with American Video Game League, producers of collegiate esports events and content, to give out $100k across 10 students. Half of the scholarship is being paid by Pokimane herself, with new partner AVGL matching her $50k. Aimed specifically at gamers, the initiative aims to strengthen the careers of the recipients. Those interested in receiving the funding have to submit a short video that lays out their “background and goals as a gamer.” The scholarship is open for applicants until December 31, 2021, and will be available for students who are set to attend college in the Fall of the following year. Read More: Pokimane to cut ties with Streamlabs – “With both of my parents being teachers, I’m especially proud to be launching another scholarship to help students with a gaming passion,” Pokimane said in a release. “I know firsthand that it’s not easy to balance schoolwork and a gaming career. I hope that this scholarship will alleviate that stress for aspiring gaming content creators and players.” Pokimane recently pledged to try and help “fix the gaming and esports industry” that she’s helping students work towards entering with these scholarships. She announced the advent of a new company RTS, which serves as a talent management and brand consulting firm, in October.

“Pokemon with guns” is a hit: Palworld Twitch viewership soars amid early access hype – Dexerto
“Pokemon with guns” is a hit: Palworld Twitch viewership soars amid early access hype PocketpairPalworld is nearing its early access launch and has already been met with some remarkable viewership numbers on Twitch. Palworld features a world filled with a wide range of creatures that players can mount, breed, and even explore dangerous dungeons with. These creatures called Pals may range in size, shape, and ability, but they all have one thing in common. Tame them, and they’re yours. All the farming, taming, and collecting Pals aside, the game does have an arguably dark side to it. It’s apparently possible to eat and even assign these little creatures to work in labor camps of sorts. Even the Steam description says, “They’ll keep working as long as they’re fed—until they’re dead, that is.” Now, as we get closer to the release date of Palworld’s early access, streamers have been showcasing the game on Twitch, adding to the hype. As far as viewership goes, the game has been seeing some surprising numbers, even competing with other popular games on the platform. Palworld’s early access on Steam isn’t available yet, but the game is already hitting over a hundred thousand peak viewers with 723k total hours of watch time in its first day alone, according to Twitch stats site Sullygnome. Based on the peak viewers, it’s currently at the 17th spot on all of Twitch, just above juggernauts like NBA 2K24, Lethal Company, and Among Us. At the time of writing, Pocketpair’s latest open-world survival is also currently sitting in the fifth spot of the most trending games on Twitch. That’s even higher than Dota 2, Fortnite, and new release Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. It’s undeniably impressive to see a game that’s recently showcased to be competing with other multiplayer titles that generally dominate the platform. Overall, it’s clear that many players seem to be interested in joining the world of “Pokemon with guns.” In addition, while the game will be launched during its early access state, devs have confirmed that the game will continue to be updated and assured fans that it’s not a scam.

Pokemon with guns? Everything you need to know about Palworld – Dexerto
Pokemon with guns? Everything you need to know about Palworld PocketpairPalworld is an upcoming RPG that’s been described as Pokemon-with-guns, but what exactly is this bizarre game? And more importantly, why are all those adorable creatures holding rocket launchers and assault rifles? Here’s everything you need to know. ‘Pokemon with guns’ is one of those phrases you never expect yourself to be writing in a professional capacity, but that’s become the go-to (and fairly accurate) descriptor for Pocketpair’s upcoming open-world title Palworld, which will probably look very familiar to fans of Pikachu and friends. With its vibrant open worlds, adorable creature companions, and cute graphics, you’d be forgiven for thinking this is just another Pokemon lookalike. That is until the main character whacks out a sniper rifle and kills one of those adorable creatures or puts them to work making weapons in a factory. You’ve got questions? We don’t blame you. With the game now confirmed to enter early access in January 2024, we’re taking a look at everything we know about the ‘Pokemon with guns’ game so far. What exactly is Palworld? Palworld was unveiled back in 2021 to plenty of chatter online, with the game’s first official trailer showing off a colorful world full of catchable creatures and landscapes ranging from fiery volcanoes to icy mountains. It’s not hard to see why it’s being compared to Pokemon. The new RPG has been described as a “multiplayer open-world survival crafting game” that sees you not just catching the various Pals that inhabit this world, but also battling alongside them, using their abilities to farm or explore the land, and fighting off illegal poachers together. With guns, of course. Pocketpair has explained that the game can be about “living a slow life” with your new Pal friends or “throwing yourself into life-and-death battles”, so it seems like there will be freedom to approach the game in whichever way works for you, whether that’s as a cozy life sim or as a fast-paced shooter. Why are there guns in this game? Honestly, we don’t quite know ourselves, but considering how aggressive some of these wild Pals look, we can only assume this world’s human population decided to turn to firearms to defend themselves. Or maybe they’re just rotten people who love inflicting violence. Who knows! What weapons are available in Palworld? From the footage we’ve seen so far, all of the standard weapons you’d expect to be available in a shooting video game are here: Pistols, assault rifles, sniper rifles, rocket launchers, and even a hunting bow for the wannabe archers among you. However, if you’d prefer to get up-close-and-personal with those wild Pals, it’s also been confirmed that you’ll be able to use melee weapons like baseball bats or even your own fists if you want to go au naturel. God bless those poor, adorable creatures. What Pals can you catch? Catching various Pals is likely going to be a key part of Palworld, so the good news is that there are going to be quite a lot of them to discover. Right now, we know there are going to be at least 96 of them, which puts it about on par with the amount of new Pokemon that appeared in Pokemon Sword & Shield. From common cannon fodder like Pengullet and Cattiva to more fearsome creatures like Jetragon and Reptigneo, there’s a mix of unique designs and some that look very similar to fan-favorite Pokemon. Pals will also have familiar elemental typings like Water, Grass, Fire, Dark, and Dragon. It looks like there are going to be several ‘boss’ Pals to fight too, including Lyleen (Queen of Lillies) and Boltmane (King of Thunder). These look a little bit like the powerful nobles in Pokemon Legends Arceus. You can see loads of the Pals you’ll be able to catch and battle in the video below: How is Palworld different from Pokemon? There are plenty of obvious comparisons to be drawn between Pokemon and Palworld, but there are some interesting differences too (and we’re not just talking about the guns). While the family-friendly Pokemon games encourage you to form close bonds with your creatures and treat them as friends, Palworld leaves things open to interpretation. In one trailer, we can see a human character using a poor sheep-like Lamball as a shield to defend themselves from an onslaught of bullets. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the game’s creators have revealed that you’ll also be able to poach endangered species and force your Pals into manual labor. You can even eat your Pal if you get peckish – although this last activity is “forbidden by law”, apparently. It’s good to know there’s some level of order in this chaotic world. Palworld also seems like it will put a much bigger focus on traditional RPG activities like farming and constructing buildings. You’ll be able to use each Pal’s abilities to help you out, whether that’s attaching an Electric-type Pal to a rod to stun your fish supper or getting a Water-type Pal to douse your crops. Graphics aren’t everything, but it’s hard not to compare Palworld’s smooth visuals to Pokemon Scarlet & Violet and Legends Arceus, which are generally considered to be pretty ugly games. It’ll be interesting to see how Palworld runs in practice, but it seems fair to say that it takes the crown in this department. While it’s unlikely that Palworld (or any game, for that matter) will ever be able to give the behemoth that is Pokemon a proper run for its money, it will be interesting to see whether its focus on guns and chaos and viral videos will be enough to make it stand out from the pack.

Pokemon vs Temtem: Differences & which game is better? – Dexerto
Pokemon vs Temtem: Differences & which game is better? The Pokemon Company / CremaTemtem has finally been released into the wild with the end of early access, but how does it stack up against Pokemon? Are all of those comparisons fair? And which one is better? Let’s find out. Ever since Temtem was first announced, one of the biggest talking points has been its similarities to Pokemon. It’s not surprising, really, considering how both games are focused on catching adorable creatures and battling your way to the top. But there are some differences between the two; Pokemon has decades of lore, recognizable characters, and almost a thousand creatures under its belt, while Temtem has MMO elements, a higher difficulty level, and some interesting additions to battles. So which one is better? We’ve compared a variety of factors like customization, battling, catching, and visuals to see which game emerges victorious. For the purpose of this comparison, we’re looking at the latest mainline Pokemon release, Sword & Shield. Creature design The most important part of any creature-collecting game is the design of the creatures themselves. If they’re not appealing – whether that’s because they’re cute, scary, cool, or powerful – then that desire to catch ’em all and train them up for battles just won’t be there. Temtem sort of gets this right. The creatures are definitely cute and have their own unique feel, but none of them really jump out as the ‘must-have’ Temtem. This could be down to the visual style or the more predictable evolution lines, or maybe they’re just not as interesting as Pokemon. There’s definitely something about Pokemon designs that really hit the spot – even the ugliest ones – which is plain to see in how popular merchandise for the franchise is. There’s a clear winner here in our eyes. Winner: Pokemon Character customization Pokemon games have always been minimal when it comes to character customization. In Sword & Shield, for example, you can choose between eight pre-made avatars (four male and four female), but that’s pretty much it. The franchise has made good strides when it comes to clothing and hairstyles that can be purchased from shops, but the base character customization options remain incredibly limited. Temtem on the other hand has a full character customization menu with plenty of options to change facial features, body type, and skin color. Clothing and hairstyles aren’t limited by gender and you can even select your pronouns. We don’t particularly like the art direction of the characters in Temtem, but the actual customization options are spot-on for a game like this. Winner: Temtem Battles Aside from catching ’em all, the most important gameplay mechanic in Pokemon has always been battling. These turn-based fights have a lot more depth than many people realize, with different elemental types, abilities, stats, and setup moves to take into consideration. There’s a reason the format has hardly changed over the past few decades: It just works. Temtem makes the sensible decision to follow a very similar battle format as Pokemon, although there are a few additions that make these fights more interesting. The most obvious one is that battles always take place in a doubles format, meaning you’ll need at least two strong TemTem leading your party at all times. It also makes type matchups a little more difficult to work around. Hold techniques are moves that require a Temtem to be in battle for a certain amount of turns before they can be used. Temtem can have two status conditions like poisoned or burned at any one time instead of just one. Also, each Temtem has a unified stamina bar rather than PP for each individual move which feels a lot more intuitive. These might seem like small changes in the grand scheme of things, but they’re enough to make battles more interesting (and a much bigger challenge) in Temtem than in Pokemon. Winner: Temtem Catching Catching a new species to add to your Pokedex is easily the most exciting part of Pokemon. While the process is almost identical in Temtem – bring their health down, place a status condition on them, throw a TemCard – nothing can compare to the feeling of watching that Poke Ball wiggle around before finally clicking shut with a satisfying sound effect. Pokemon also has the advantage of having multiple types of Poke Ball to experiment with, such as the Dive Ball for underwater creatures and the ultra-rare Master Ball for those elusive Legendaries. Winner: Pokemon Visuals Pokemon games (in particular the recently-released Legends Arceus) have always had a bad reputation for low-quality graphics and dated visuals. It’s a shame, because the art style and creature designs are great, but the consoles they live on have never really had the power to be able to push the franchise to its full potential. In some ways, Temtem has the ‘modern’ graphics that Pokemon fans have been waiting for, with smoother visuals and fewer of those pixelated edges. What holds it back, though, is the art style (which is simple and a little bit flat) and the lack of details. It looks more like a mobile release rather than a proper console game. If we’re being honest, we don’t think either franchise is a winner when it comes to visuals. Winner: It’s a tie (but if we had to choose it would probably be Pokemon) Music & sound Music has always been a standout feature of the Pokemon franchise. Whether you’re entering a spooky area like Lavender Town or encountering a powerful Legendary Pokemon, the music and sound effects make everything feel more atmospheric. Even the 8-bit tunes from back in the Gameboy days remain iconic despite the handheld’s obvious technical limitations. Temtem doesn’t really hit the mark here. The music is pleasant but a little forgettable, and the repetitive soundbites that play when talking to characters become grating quite quickly. The battle cries of each Temtem are interesting, though. Winner: Pokemon So which is better: Temtem or Pokemon? Based on everything we’ve discussed so far, we feel confident in saying that Pokemon games reign supreme. There’s just too much that the franchise gets right, which is probably down to the decades of experience behind it, and the overall package feels higher quality and more enjoyable. That doesn’t mean you should rule out Temtem entirely. Despite the similarities, Temtem offers a bigger challenge for more experienced gamers and the MMO elements are a nice touch. There are hours of gameplay to work through and just like Pokemon, there’s a decent amount of endgame content too. If you’re a big Pokemon fan but feel like you’ve played through the games a hundred times by now, it might be worth giving Temtem a try!

Pokemon Unite stats reveal the most popular Pokemon to use – Dexerto
Pokemon Unite stats reveal the most popular Pokemon to use TiMi Studio GroupNew stats have revealed the most popular Pokemon picks in Pokemon Unite – and they might surprise you. TiMi Studios’ version of an RTS is loved by both Pokemon and MOBA fans alike. Being able to choose a fighter and work together with friends to take down an objective is always welcome by the diehard fanbases. As is the nature of competitive games, some characters are picked more than others. There are different reasons for it, be it because it’s your favorite Pokemon since childhood, it has the best set of moves, or it’s just plain fun to play. In the end, no matter the reason, some get picked more than others. Pokemon Unite stats reveal the most popular Pokemon According to Reddit user duelaxis — a frequent supplier of Pokemon Unite data — pick rate on certain ‘mon has shifted quite a bit while the top has remained mostly the same. Based on data gathered from the top 100 Master Rank players’ last 20 matches, the fan-favorite Lucario comes in at first place with a 15.6% usage rate. This is the second week in a row that the Pokemon has been at the number one spot after he overtook Greedent on patch 1.2.1.10. There are other things to note as well. Both Eldegoss and Venusaur who are placed just under Lucario at second and third respectively also remained stagnant for a second week in a row. The game also saw its newest addition, Tsareena, soar into the top five. While the top half remained mostly unchanged, the bottom half experienced a lot of shifting. Almost nearly every Pokemon from the 11th to 20th position went down at least one spot, except two. Cinderace jumped six spots into number 12 and Slowbro who made his debut on the list took the 18th spot. All in all, the three-headed hydra of Lucario, Eldegoss, and Venusaur look like they are here to stay at least until the next meta change.

Pokemon Unite Glaceon guide: Best build, held items, moves – Dexerto
Pokemon Unite Glaceon guide: Best build, held items, moves TiMi StudiosGlaceon is Pokemon Unite’s newest special attacker. The eeveelution is different from most of its counterparts, dealing most its damage from ice stacks gained by its passive. If you want to master Glaceon, we’ve got a Pokemon Unite Glaceon Guide here which includes the best build, held items, and move sets. To celebrate the game’s first year anniversary, Pokemon Unite is releasing three new pokemon, with Glaceon serving as the first to debut. Similar to the other eeveelutions, Glaceon also evolves at level 4 and deals special attack damage. But this pokemon’s damage output centers around its icicle system, created from its moves alongside boosted basic attacks. This makes Pokemon Unite Glaceon’s main priority attack speed. This is just a brief overview into what the best Glaceon build in Pokemon Unite will look like though — so read on for a full guide to their best held items, moves, and more. Contents Glaceon Pokemon Unite overview As a whole, Glaceon is pretty weak when it’s still Eevee. Lackluster damage and squishy stats make it easy prey for stronger early game Pokemon. Try to play it safe until level 4, avoiding unnecessary fights. Because of its weak early game, going center/jungle as Glaceon is preferred — allowing Glaceon to farm and scale effectively into the mid-to-late game. Pokemon Unite Glaceon Battle Items Each of these battle items has their own use, catering to different objectives and play styles. But as a whole, X-Speed seems to work the best on Glaceon. X-Speed For Glaceon, X-Speed provides insane utility. Since the pokemon needs to remain fast on its feet, the extra movement speed helps Glaceon position effectively to kite and shred the enemy. X-Attack This particular battle items works wonders for attackers in the current meta. Increased damage stats and faster attack speed allow Glaceon to thrive in those key team fights. Eject Button Only take Eject Button you’re simply really used to the extra utility. Its long cooldown makes it fall short — especially compared to the longer lasting and shorter cooldown X-Speed. Pokemon Unite Glaceon Held Items There are two very viable held item build paths for Glaceon: Critical Hit Glaceon and Special Attack Burst Damage Glaceon. Depending on the Emblem system, these may get tweaked a slight amount, but the base information presented here should provide a great general guideline. Critical Hit Glaceon Glaceon is the only special attacker in the game that can critical strike. And since the pokemon gains a lot from having additional attack speed, the critical hit Glaceon build is completely viable — albeit definitely strange for a special attacker. Recommended Held Items: Muscle Band – Scope Lens – Razor Claw – Alternative Held Items (switch out Razor Claw) Focus Band – For Glaceon, taking Muscle Band is an absolute must. The pokemon relies on its enhanced basic attacks to stack its passive, which is its primary damage output. Scope Lens and Razor Claw hone in on the critical strike portion of Glaceon. But for players finding themselves far too squishy, use Focus Band instead of Razor Claw. The defensive stats and healing from Focus Band come in absolutely clutch. Switching out Razor Claw instead of Scope Lens works better since Scope Lens is the better critical strike item for basic attack reliant pokemon like Glaceon. Special Attack Glaceon This build path prioritizes the typical special attack scaling, which is a bit more reliable than the critical striking Glaceon build. If having to choose between the two, this build is likely more versatile — with the other one providing a bit more of a gimmicky play style. Recommended Held Items Muscle Band – Choice Specs – Focus Band – Alternative Held Items (switch out Focus Band) Wise Glasses – Special Attack Specs – Once again, Muscle Band is an absolute must. Choice Specs is arguably the best held item to take when only opting for a single special attack item, since it provides high stats and bonus damage on hit. As for Wise Glasses, this item actually works best when used together with Choice Specs. Players would need to switch out Focus Band, making for a pure glass cannon build. Special Attack Specs are more so for players who just like the item. It’s a bit unreliable, but for those who love to dunk, go for it. Recommended Moves Best Moves Icicle Spear – Ice Shard – Alternative Moves (switching out Icicle Spear) Icy Wind – Icicle Spear and Ice Shard are the best moves for Glaceon during its initial release, honing in on Glaceon’s inclination to rely on its boosted basic attacks to maximize damage output. Between Icicle Spear and Icy Wind, Icicle Spear wins out due to its high damage output that synergizes with Glaceon’s Unite Move. Icy Wind, on the other hand, doesn’t actually stack and interact properly with Glaceon’s Unite Move, which cuts down DPS significantly. Though the little jump while using Icy Wind is useful, you can still move while casting Icicle Spear. Therefore, losing out on Icicle Spear’s damage in exchange for Icy Wind costs a ton of damage. As for Ice Shard, this move boosts Glaceon’s attack speed, which helps get out more damage with its boosted autos. In comparison to Freeze Dry, Ice Shard quite frankly far outshines its counterpart. The issue with Freeze Dry is that it doesn’t synergize with the boosted attack playstyle, while providing very little utility. Its damage is very low, and the CC is minimal, making the move terrible. Just don’t take Freeze Dry until the developers buff it.

Pokemon to release adorable new TCG stacking tins – Dexerto
Pokemon to release adorable new TCG stacking tins PokemonPokemon will soon be releasing new stacking tins in March 2024. These easy-to-store Pokemon TCG products will make it easier for Pokemon collectors and investors to safely store their products. Pokemon is still a fast-growing and sustainable brand. It has gained so much attention since 2021, and a lot of celebrities like Logan Paul have been treating the cards like art investments. As such collectors like to store their sealed products for 5 + years until the price matures and they can get the most out of its sale. However, storage can be an issue either because of space or product damage, which will dramatically decrease the price of a card or pack. Consequently in February 2022 a new product line of stackable tins was released, and in 2024 we can expect to see exciting new drops with some adorable designs. What’s in the new stacking Pokemon TCG tins The newest in the stackable tin product line will be released on March 1, 2024, just ahead of the Western equivalent of The Pokemon TCG Temporal Forces set. The tins will cost $14.99 each and will contain three booster packs, a Pokemon coin, and 2 Pokemon sticker sheets. The new set will feature 1 x Dragon, 1 x Psychic, and 1 x Metal Pokemon, and the covers depict Gengar and Screaming Tail, Goomy and Druddigon, and Cufant and Meltan. The 2022 tins featured Grass, Water, Electric, Fighting, Fire, and Dark type Pokemon. The tins are not available to pre-order yet, but you can purchase the previous iterations of the tins here. When the new tins are available, we will be adding them to this table, so be sure to check back in March for your new storage container. Pokemon TCG Twilight Masquerade expansion set: Release date, new cards, more – Dexerto
Pokemon TCG Twilight Masquerade expansion set: Release date, new cards, more The Pokemon CompanyIf you’re a Paldea fan, you’re going to love the Twilight Masquerade expansion set. This set is packed full of the best cardboard critters, featuring exciting full art pieces for popular Pokemon like Ogerpon and the Loyal Three. Following up the Japanese expansion set Mask of Change – also known as Transformation Mask – Twilight Masquerade takes heavy inspiration from the Scarlet & Violet Teal Mask DLC. Alongside the Pokemon, popular characters like Carmine and Kieran make an appearance here too. Here’s everything you need to know about Twilight Masquerade, including the release date and the new types of cards that you can expect to find when opening Booster Packs. Pokemon TCG Scarlet & Violet: Twilight Masquerade release date Initially announced via Serebii, following a trailer released by The Pokemon Company, Twilight Masquerade was released on May 24, 2024. Twilight Masquerade was released closely after the Mask of Change expansion set. The next expansions that Pokemon TCG fans can expect to see coming out are Night Wanderer and Shrouded Fable, which will be following the Kitakami theme. New Pokemon TCG Scarlet & Violet: Twilight Masquerade cards Twilight Masquerade features 226 cards overall, with a great mix of full art pieces and punchy, competitive Pokemon. While it pulls from the Teal Mask DLC, it also features cards that were originally seen in Mask of Change and the earlier expansion set Crimson Haze. Alongside the Loyal Three and Ogerpon, Pokemon TCG fans can also expect to see popular ‘mons like Bloodmoon Ursaluna, Sinistcha, and Dragapult. Dragapult ex in particular is an exciting card, as some believe it could be a counter to the ever-powerful Charizard ex deck. There are plenty of cards in Twilight Masquerade that will hold value for competitive players. Simple cards like Handheld Fan (150/167) were spotted dominating during pre-release and it’s likely they’ll continue to show up in tournament settings. Pokemon TCG Twilight Masquerade ACE SPEC cards Temporal Forces reintroduced ACE SPEC cards to the Pokemon trading card game, but Twilight Masquerade has arguably introduced the best ACE SPEC gems so far. Cards like Unfair Stamp (165/167) have been pointed out as being powerhouses, with the Ability on the card living up to its name. As shown above, this card can be a game-changer for players who’ve had a Pokemon Knocked Out. Check out our ACE SPEC guide for more information on this. If you’re excited about the next Pokemon TCG releases, make sure to take a look at the Shrouded Fable Elite Trainer Box and Illustration Collections. This set drops in August this year and it’s looking like the perfect follow-up to Twilight Masquerade.

Pokemon TCG Stellar Crown Review – I’ve never wanted to build a deck so badly – Dexerto
Pokemon TCG Stellar Crown Review – I’ve never wanted to build a deck so badly After Shrouded Fable’s expansion at the start of August, fans have been eager to get their hands on the bigger card list for Stellar Crown. Unfortunately, the list isn’t as long as many may have hoped, but what’s included could alter the meta of the TCG. Stellar Crown will introduce themes seen in the Scarlet and Violet Blueberry Academy DLC expansion. The crown of this bejeweled set is Terapagos ex, which has introduced Stellar Tera cards to the TCG. While pull rates for this set are heavily impacted by a smaller card list and limited by a short selection of illustration rare cards, this expansion will leave players hungry to build decks and get playing. I was shocked at how quickly strategy ideas began to form as I opened each new pack, and I couldn’t wait to test some of the cards out in playable decks. Key Details Release Date: September 13, 2024 – Booster Box Availability: Yes – Card List Number: 175 – Series: Scarlet and Violet – Review Samples: Stellar Crown ETB, Build-and-Battle Box, Booster Box – Stellar cards will challenge how players build decks The first thing to note when cracking open Stellar Crown booster packs is that this set promotes creative thinking. Stunning options like Terapagos ex, Lapras ex, Hydrapple ex, and Galvantula ex all require multiple different Energy cards to run. Additionally, Ancient and Future cards also shake up energy requirements. This means players will need to create decks that have the required types to run the powerful Stellar Tera cards. By pairing cards like Raging Bolt with Galvantula ex, players will have plentiful options that use similar Energy requirements. The Stellar cards are similar to the Amazing cards of the Sword and Shield era but with more diversity for gameplay. Amazing fell flat thanks to extreme Energy costs and limited attack options. Stellar cards don’t seem to struggle with this issue and allow players to pack a punch more quickly as long as they have the tools to get Energy attached. Stellar Crown is not for hard-core collectors After opening the Stellar Crown ETB and Booster Box, it can be stated that Stellar Crown isn’t going to be a big hit with Pokemon collectors. This set is designed for gameplay and does not include an expansive gallery of full-art rare illustration cards. While a few cute options like the Kanto starters, Milcrey line, and Archaludon debut all have beautiful art to collect, there aren’t any major chase cards to go after. Additionally, because the 175-card gallery is so small, it won’t take players long to collect most standard card options from the list. In Stellar Crown, much like Shrouded Fable, the standard Pokemon shine. Options like Raging Bolt and Grimmsnarl pack a serious punch, while strategy cards like Alcremie allow players to make bold moves. Archaludon’s “Metal Bridge” Ability is particularly useful, allowing any Pokemon with a Steel energy attached to retreat free of cost. These are cards that could change the meta when in play with options like Tarapagos ex which pairs with the Area Zone Underdepths Stadium card for damage thanks to the attack Unified Beatdown. This attack does x30 for each benched Pokemon while Area Zone Underdepths allows anyone with a Tera card in play to increase their bench size up to eight Pokemon. Meanwhile, Lapras ex is hitting players with Karimar Rain, which allows the player to look at up to 20 cards, take all the energy cards found, and attach them as the player sees fit. This overpowered card could be perfect for those needing Energy acceleration. This expansion is brilliantly playable and left me frantic to build a deck. I wanted to try these strategies for myself and ended up down a rabbit hole trying to fit everything I wanted to do together. Verdict: 4.5/5 Stellar Crown has some of the prettiest cards currently available in the TCG, but also some of the most playable. This expansion is worth investing in if you plan to build powerful new strategies. It is fun, inspiring, and colorful, making every pack opened a treat. While it will be a letdown for collectors, the versatility of the cards is sure to be appealing specifically to players, and many of these could be seen circulating in top decks in the coming months. It is always exciting to try out new mechanics in the Pokemon TCG, but this set in particular does a wonderful job of encouraging trainers to test their limits and try new things. If you want excellent Trainers, new Ace Spec cards, and a plethora of type options, this set is for you.

Pokemon TCG players declare “best” Twilight Masquerade pull and it’s not what you think – Dexerto
Pokemon TCG players declare “best” Twilight Masquerade pull and it’s not what you think The Pokemon CompanyTwilight Masquerade has finally hit the Pokemon TCG market and it’s caused quite a stir in the community already. It’s an intriguing expansion set, with plenty of powerful Pokemon and Trainer cards, and picking the best out of the bunch is a tall order. That hasn’t stopped Pokemon TCG fans from trying, though. Tier list after tier list has popped up on social media since release day, with fans bringing up cards like Dragapult ex, Carmine, and Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex as contenders for the number one card in Twilight Masquerade. A surprising card has made its way to the top of most lists, though – Unfair Stamp (165/167), one of the new ACE SPEC cards from the expansion set. The card popped up in a top 10 from a Pokemon content creator on X recently, alongside Scoop Up Cyclone (162/167). The creator, @AbrandNewMac, noted that, “The name speaks for itself. The card can feel unfair. It changes how decks approach the game.” They then compared it to the Yu-Gi-Oh! card Nibiru, the Primal Being, for the potentially game-ending effects and level of control that it offers. Continuing, they elaborated, “It keeps decks honest and racing you off the board if you start slow or they pop off early” before crowning it as the best card out of the Twilight Masquerade expansion set. Other fans agreed with the decision, with some getting mildly side-tracked by the comparison to another trading card game. One player shared a picture of their triple ACE SPEC card haul, noting, “Makes me feel good for getting a second one today!” In a similar post, Pokemon TCG fans were astounded by the power of the card, with many noting that it could pop up in a Bibarel Charizard ex deck. One joked, “Chat is this real? Bibarel meta incoming.” ACE SPEC cards have always been powerful and bringing them back into the game with Temporal Forces seems to have been a fantastic move. It’ll be interesting to see how these ACE SPEC cards perform on the competitive circuit as the year progresses.

Pokemon TCG player uncovers “jackpot” vintage haul worth thousands – Dexerto
Pokemon TCG player uncovers “jackpot” vintage haul worth thousands The Pokemon CompanyDid you collect Pokemon cards as a child? If so, it’s worth double-checking your collection, as one lucky Pokemon TCG player has found out recently, you could be sitting on a goldmine. If you’re a Pokemon TCG player, chances are that you’ve spent some time daydreaming about finding a super rare card in your old collection. Thankfully, there are some sleeper cards that have picked up in value immensely over the last two decades or so. While it may be a daydream for most, one lucky Pokemon fan took to social media lately to share a truly awesome collection of old cards that they picked up from their basement. Pokemon TCG player discovers valuable vintage pieces Originally popping up in this Reddit post, Pokemon TCG player paddy920 decided to share their finds with other Pokemon players in r/PokemonTCG. They described how the cards were from their high school years and mentioned how they’d love to know if any of the cards were rare finds – and the other Pokemon players in the thread were more than happy to share their expertise. One helpful player provided a detailed analysis of all the key cards, pointing out the Pikachu and Charizard cards as being particularly interesting. They guessed that there could be “close to $2500 worth of cards and the pack here, if not more”, referencing the pristine, unopened Legendary booster. Another player congratulated Reddit user paddy920 on their incredible find, saying that “you hit the jackpot for sure” – much to paddy920’s delight. A particularly keen-eyed reader noticed that paddy920 referenced finding some unopened Yu-Gi-Oh! gems as well, asking what else was found. Alongside these immense finds, there were also unopened packs (including Pharaonic Servant and Legacy of Darkness) and some first edition packs. Considering that the photos above don’t even show the full haul, it’s safe to say that the original poster had a great day. They mentioned sending off some cards to get graded, including some incredible pieces from the Legendary Collection and from Expedition. All in all, it’s an impressive find. One user summed up their feelings perfectly, stating “You suck and I hate you. Congrats on the find though!! These cards are such a cool find.”

Penn Badgley reveals starring role in 1999 Pokemon TCG training video – Dexerto
Penn Badgley reveals starring role in 1999 Pokemon TCG training video You’s Penn Badgley revealed his leading part in a Pokemon TCG training video in the 1990s, in addition to a brief Mario role. Netflix’s You star Penn Badgley disclosed that one of his first jobs in the acting industry was for a 1999 Pokemon TCG training video. Badgley also made a voice-acting cameo in Mario Tennis 64 as Alex – the singles and doubles champion of the Island Open tournament. Pokemon TCG first arrived in the United States in 1998, two years after its Japanese release date. Consequently, The Pokemon Company produced VHS tapes that taught viewers how to play the trading card game, considering that YouTube tutorial videos did not exist. Penn Badgley taught adults how to play Pokemon At 13 years old, Badgley portrayed a teenage teacher named Jimmy who attempted to instruct parents on how to play Pokemon TCG. However, the adults only expressed interest in trading the cards and kept interrupting the class with inquiries and bragging about their extensive collections. Their vexing questions included the value of trading a Vileplume for a Nidoqueen and whether it was worth it to start collecting the foil Pokemon cards. Jimmy finally gave up on teaching the parents the rules of TCG and allowed them to begin trading with each other. In an interview with Capital FM, Badgley addressed his long-lost appearance in the 30-minute training video. “I think in America, at least [the Pokemon Company] realized that nobody was learning how to play the game, and they were only trading,” Badgley said. “That probably had something to do with, let’s be honest, they wanted more money.” In addition to Pokemon, Badgley discussed his role as Alex in Mario Golf 64 and Mario Tennis 64. Despite his appearance, his parents only rented Castlevania and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron for him on the Nintendo 64. Therefore, Badgley has never played either Mario title he briefly appeared in. Since the beginning of Pokemon TCG, the trading card has introduced online applications for trainer battles. In January 2023, The Pokemon Company confirmed Crown Zenith would act as TCG Online’s last expansion. The support for TCG Online ended on March 1 with the transition to TCG Live. However, Versus Ladder reward tracks will still update until Online’s complete shutdown. The disappointing news came only a month before the release of the first Scarlet & Violet expansion.

Pokemon TCG confirms rare Japanese promo for Paldean Fates – Dexerto
Pokemon TCG confirms rare Japanese promo for Paldean Fates PokemonCard collectors are set to eat well in 2024, as Pokemon TCG has been treating them to previews of rare and beautiful cards from the upcoming Paldean Fates set. The release of Pokemon TCG: Paldean Fates, is just around the corner, so, Pokemon is teasing fans with new cards. Recently the Pokémon TCG X account replied to a fan asking for one certain card to return, and confirmed the good news. The rare Moonlit Hill card was originally only awarded to Japanese gym tournament challengers in 2023, so fans in the West were left hoping for the exclusive card, but no longer. Pokemon TCG: Paldean Fates to include rare Japanese promo cards One comment on Pokebeach says of the card, “[it’s] so good of an art I can only see a gold ruining it,” referring to the increasingly popular Golden ‘raised foil effect’ hyper rare Pokemon cards. The Moonlit Hill card allows a player to discard a basic psychic energy card from their hand to heal 30 damage from each of their Pokemon. This could be a tantalizing asset for Gardevoir fans, as the Pokemon is Psychic-type, so anyone using the card will have plenty of psychic energy handy. However, Gardevoir decks are set to suffer heavy losses of Kirlia, and, Arcana Gardevoir following the 2024 rotation to standard. Some Pokemon TCG players took to X (formerly Twitter) to mourn the loss of Gardevoir ex. One fan said, “Trying to save Gardevoir Ex? Not enough”, expressing a popular sentiment. The only consolation for Gardevoir players is that they will have a chance to play at the stadium up until April. Although the loss of the Shining Arcana Gardevoir will be felt, at least fans will get this cute Shiny Clodsire. Plus, there’s always room for new rare promos and unexpected cards in Paldean Fates. Pokemon TCG is showing love to under-represented mainline hero – Dexerto
Pokemon TCG is showing love to under-represented mainline hero The Pokemon CompanyThe Pokemon TCG is bringing back cards owned by specific trainers in a future set, and fans are shocked to see the long-awaited arrival of one of the strongest protagonists in the series. The Owner’s Pokemon mechanic was first introduced in Gym Heroes, the sixth TCG set. These are Pokemon cards with a trainer’s name in the title, such as Brock’s Geodude, and were considered distinct from other regular creatures. For example, a Graveler couldn’t evolve from Brock’s Geodude, but Brock’s Graveler could. At the 2024 Pokemon World Championships, it was revealed that Owner’s Pokemon are returning in 2025, via a trailer that can be seen on the franchise’s official YouTube channel. Fans on the Pokemon TCG Reddit were shocked to see a certain face in the video, as Ethan from the Gen 2 game is coming to the TCG. “Gold/Ethan! Finally, my boy is getting some love!” one user exclaimed, while another said, “Hell yeah! Glad to see Ethan in there too; hopeful for some other generation trainers.” Another user wrote, “I hope we get Iono’s Mismagius. I wonder what cards we will get for Ethan?” Despite being the protagonist of Pokemon Gold & Silver and the male option in their remakes and Pokemon Crystal, Ethan has never appeared in the Pokemon TCG. The closest we got was the Copycat dressing like him on her card. Based on the trailer, it seems like one of the upcoming Owner’s Pokemon cards will be Ethan’s Pichu, as he was seen with the Gen 2 Baby ‘mon. Hopefully, he’ll get something beefier on his squad, like one of the Johto Legendary Birds or Celebi. It’s been a long time coming, but Ethan will finally become part of the TCG. Despite being in some of the most beloved entries in the series and defeating the mighty Red in battle, Ethan is often overlooked compared to his Gen 1 counterpart, and it’s way past time that he’s shown love in the card game.

Pokemon TCG “leak” of Gengar SAR debunked as fake – Dexerto
Pokemon TCG “leak” of Gengar SAR debunked as fake PokemonAfter a Reddit user shared an image of what was supposedly a new Pokemon TCG ex card from Wild Force & Cyber Judge, the ‘leak’ has been proved as an elaborate fake. Gengar is a fan favorite of Pokemon fans and TCG players, and this leak had fans excited for good reason. The card would have been one of the final ex Pokemon from the upcoming Wild Force expansion to Scarlet & Violet, set to be released in Japan on January 26. The Western version of the Japanese Wild Force & Cyber Judge sets, Temporal Forces, will launch in the West on March 22. Fans are already expecting it to be another “wallet destroyer”. New Secret Art Gengar leak was in fact a fake When the never-before-seen card was posted on Reddit, fans were excited to see that the new ex card was as wild as the set’s name suggested. Almost a day after the card was posted, however, a video highlighting how the fake was made got posted on YouTuber yuzup0n370‘s channel. Gengar is one of the big-name ex-Pokemon from the new set. However, many collectors were quick to spot the deceptive card. THIS IS FAKE!! The font is wrong, it should be a different style AND be black with white outlines. Not white with black outline,” said Zorenstein on Reddit, where an image of the card was originally posted. From the original Pokebeach reveal we know that Gengar will be a dark type with a huge 310 HP, making it a tough card to take out. Its only move is a 160 BP move that only requires two Darkness Energy cards. We also know it is a stage 2 ex Pokemon, and players will lose two prize cards when Gengar is sent to the discard pile. A translation from JustinBasil, JakeC, and Toine L. of Pokebeach tell us that the card’s ability and move are called “Corroding Curse” and “Trick Step”. Gengar’s ability will put two damage counters on an Enemy Pokemon whenever it has energy attached to it. Its attack, “Trick Step”, does 160 damage and allows you to move one Energy from an opponent’s Pokemon to another. We’ve already seen numerous powerful evolutionary lines with great abilities, such as the new Metang whose Metal Maker ability allows a player to search the top four cards of their deck and attach any metal energies they find to any of their Pokemon. Although the deceptive card did the rounds and got many fans’ hopes up, the set still promises to release a lot of highly playable cards with unique designs.

Pokemon TCG collectors sharing monotype hauls as Farfetch’d collection goes viral – Dexerto
Pokemon TCG collectors sharing monotype hauls as Farfetch’d collection goes viral The Pokemon CompanyPokemon TCG collectors are sharing their monotype hauls, with Farfetch’d and Pikachu getting center stage, much to the praise of the community. Pokemon TCG collectors often share their massive hauls of cards. With Shiny and rare editions of particular Pokemon selling for thousands, sometimes hundreds of thousands, at auctions or private sales. While most Pokemon TCG collectors work hard to find as many different Pokemon to add to their decks, similar to how a Pokedex operates in the video games, others have found pleasure in developing a monotype collection. Monotype Pokemon TCG collections are when a fan picks a particular Pokemon, often their favorite, and fills their collection with as many different variations of the Pokemon as they can. This can include shiny cards or simply different classic cards that include different designs and images on them. Across Reddit, Pokemon TCG collectors have been sharing their monotype hauls, one community member revealing that their collection of Farfetch’d Pokemon cards is beginning to get a little out of hand. The initial poster included an image of their collection of Farfetch’d Pokemon cards, with many praising the variety included. One Redditor commented, “Dude, this rules! Farfetch’d is the most awesome Pokemon and I’ve never seen all his cards together like this.” Another added, “This is awesome. I will slowly get there one day. Farfetch’d is definitely one of my favorites. Now when will they make a sweet Full Art?” This isn’t the only monotype Pokemon TCG collection to be circulating across social media. Others are also sharing their Pikachu monotype collections across various other Reddit threads. Pokemon fans once again applauded the collector for their impressive monotype collection. “Some Pokemon just don’t get the love they deserve so finding all their cards and having them together can be so rewarding. It’s fun to find your favorite Pokemon as a background character or on a stadium or tool card artwork.”

Pokemon TCG collectors aren’t sure how to feel about the Ogerpon Jumbo Card Set – Dexerto
Pokemon TCG collectors aren’t sure how to feel about the Ogerpon Jumbo Card Set The Pokemon CompanyA new Pokemon TCG product is due to come out in Japan – featuring fan-favorite Ogerpon – but collectors aren’t sure how to feel about it. Ogerpon has been a treasured Pokemon since its debut, skyrocketing in popularity amongst fans and competitive players in both the video game and trading card game niche. It’s about to be the star of the show in a new product called a Special Jumbo Card Set that’s coming out in Japan shortly. This product was officially announced in the Champions League 2024 Aichi Livestream recently, and details were expanded upon by sites like PokeGuardian. This item is set to drop on May 17th and from what we know, this will be a Japan exclusive. The Jumbo Card Set, as seen above, should come with a giant Ogerpon promo, a regular Ogerpon promo, a promo card with all the masks, 8 Mask of Change Booster packs, a card display for the giant card, and a shiny Ogerpon coin, too. Pokemon fans online were delighted by the promo in the Jumbo Card Set, seemingly nonplussed by the other item. They praised the card design as being beautiful, with one person on X noting, “Why is this 100x better than the SIRs” referencing the other Ogerpon cards announced alongside this item. 4 Special Illustration Rares for the upcoming Japanese set Mask of Change were also revealed to fans, showing Ogerpon and the masks. The response to these cards was mixed, erring on the side of disappointment. While Ogerpon fans were thrilled to see more cards featuring their favorite, other Pokemon players were disappointed by the SIR designs. Some were confused by the differences between the SIRs and the promo card, querying why these 4 weren’t promo releases instead. If you’re keen on getting the Special Jumbo Card Set featuring Ogerpon – or even the Mask of Change set – you’ll either need to be based in Japan or have a retailer in mind that can sort the import process out for you. Mask of Change will come out on April 26th, and the Ogerpon set won’t be far behind it.

Pokemon TCG collector runs into “shady” eBay interaction – Dexerto
Pokemon TCG collector runs into “shady” eBay interaction The Pokemon CompanyWhile buying Pokemon cards in person can be fun, getting them online can be much quicker and easier. Sites like TCGPlayer and eBay make it easy to access a wide range of cards and TCG accessories, but they can also present challenges and risks for collectors. Shopping for cards online means that you can’t see the cards in person and check for any issues before buying them, putting your trust in the seller completely. This isn’t always an issue, as there are some amazing vendors out there, but it can sometimes turn out to be a nightmare. One Pokemon TCG collector ran into an unfortunate issue while trying to pick up Paldean Fates Pokemon cards on eBay recently. After winning an auction, they were told that the seller wouldn’t be sending out the cards – seemingly due to them selling for too little money in a 24-hour auction. The seller promised a full refund and a free card in return for the “frustrating and unfair” experience, but OP was still understandably upset by the experience. Winning an auction and then being told you can’t have your cards is an annoying process that a fair few collectors end up going through. While discussing the issue with other collectors, OP was advised to leave them negative feedback and report them to eBay. The majority of collectors in the subreddit agreed that OP had experienced something irritating, with one person slamming the seller by saying “Play stupid games win stupid prizes.” Others felt that the seller should be given credit for owning up to their issue, with a reader sharing “Idk, at least he was real about it. Maybe I’m naïve or too forgiving, but, like, at least you get a free card out of it.” Regardless of which side of the fence you sit on here, it’s always upsetting to see a fellow collector disappointed like this. If you’re planning to grab any Pokemon cards on platforms like this, always make sure to double-check the seller’s reviews and ratings so you have the best chance of getting exactly what you’ve paid for. If you’ve got access to a local game store, though, it’s best to head in and buy your cards in person. The selection could be smaller, but buying in person gives you the chance to examine cards up close and check quality. If you click on a product link on this page we may earn a small affiliate commission.

Pokemon TCG collector is now eating the animals that ruined his Van Gogh cards – Dexerto
Pokemon TCG collector is now eating the animals that ruined his Van Gogh cards Pokemon / UniversalA Pokemon TCG collector had their delivery of rare Van Gogh cards destroyed by animals after the driver left the package outside. Now, some of them are on the menu for Thanksgiving. When The Pokemon Company released a promotional video for a collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, Reddit user Mrpuffpuff196 knew he wanted to get his hands on the product. The promotion took place on The Pokemon Center store as well as at the museum, promising to explore the inspiration that Van Gogh drew from Japanese prints during his years with the French impressionists. One of the key cards, Pikachu with Felt Hat, is the most expensive English Pikachu card, with a market value of $161.36 at the time of writing. However, scalpers reared their heads and the promos were sold out in record time. The Pokémon Center store even went down from the ridiculous levels of traffic. One collector managed to order the set in time, but when it arrived, things didn’t work out as planned. Pokemon TCG collector sees Van Gogh cards ruined in delivery They said: “FedEx driver threw the package into my yard while I was at school and the animals got ahold of it.” Some users looked at it from the worker’s perspective – the one who handled the delivery. One said: “Yeah I’m not coming in anyone’s yard with loose ass dogs. Sorry it happened, but you gotta put them dogs up when you’re expecting packages. Clearly, they aren’t super well-behaved.” The poster shot back: “They’re not dogs. My mom has goats she lets roam free in our yard.” And speaking to Dexerto, Mrpuffpuff196 said there were also a pig and turkeys on the property. In the Reddit post, many fans of the Trading Card Game said this was ‘karma’ for engaging in scalping anyway, as the collector said: “Her goats ate half my paycheck.” So, what happened next? Some of the animals are now on the Thanksgiving menu The Montana-based collector explained why they were buying the cards in the first place, responding to scalper accusations. He said: “They looked cool. My mom is also an artist and has loved Van Gogh, so I think that played a part. But mainly, it was one of the first promos in a while where I went… I need that.” They had purchased the cards at school but came home to a big mess. “I actually went to the bathroom in history class and stayed in there for 40 minutes pacing back and force with my phone and debit card trying for stuff,” they added. “I ended up getting 6 packs of sleeves for the personal collection. “Got home, parked by the garage, and saw this… Then I circled around and found the others, taking inventory.” Between the pig, turkeys, and goats – the box had been torn open and the rare cards were sprawled across the yard. He says after contacting FedEx support and making a complaint, nothing happened, but what about the animals? Mrpuffpuff explained that the farm animals are always outside, adding: “They’re not my animals and I don’t particularly like them… they don’t go inside and they’re happy with that!” After we asked what was next for the animals, he added: “She has two turkeys in the same yard that we will be eating on Thanksgiving.” The collector has kept hold of all the cards from the set and says they ate around $300 worth of items from the set. As for scalping issues in the Pokemon TCG community, Mrpuffpuff says it is hurting the main demographic – children.

Pokemon TCG art hints at amazing Ogerpon Ex reveal The Pokemon CompanyExcited about Pokemon Day 2024? The final sneak peek image just dropped and it hints at an incredible haul for Pokemon TCG players – including an amazing Ogerpon ex card. Are you excited for Pokemon Day 2024? It’s just on the horizon and there should be plenty of brilliant announcements for fans of the games and the trading card game, too. The Pokemon Company has been putting out some incredible artwork leading up to this event to get fans hyped, and the final piece that came out today hints at some truly exciting news for Pokemon TCG fans. Pokemon Day 2024 art teases some incredible TCG news Originally shared in a post on X (and a variety of other official Pokemon X posts), The Pokemon Company put out the following illustration, wishing fans the best of luck with their card trades this week. Two cards can be seen lying face down in the image, with a variety of intriguing designs in the background. These include fan-favorite Pokemon such as Pikachu, Eevee, and Charizard, possibly hinting at new illustration rares and Tera cards. Some of the most notable inclusions here are a Tera Fighting Greninja and Tera Ogerpon with the Grass mask. While this is speculation on our part, these images are likely hinting at new ex cards featuring these iconic Pokemon. Fans were incredibly excited about the various characters and designs shown in this image, with the Eevee illustration getting a lot of love. One Pokemon TCG player replied, “Cant wait for this Eevee Illustration Rare” and said that they hoped it would be an Elite Trainer Box promo card. There are already a lot of amazing Pokemon TCG releases on the calendar, such as Temporal Forces and Twilight Masquerade. It’s hard to say with certainty what we’ll see in the Pokemon Presents showcase tomorrow, but it’s safe to say that it’ll be a lot of fun.

Pokemon Sword & Shield players convinced they found Black & White remake names – Dexerto
Pokemon Sword & Shield players convinced they found Black & White remake names THE POKEMON COMPANYPokemon Sword & Shield players have claimed they discovered the names of the alleged Black & White remakes. Rumors surrounding the development of Pokemon Black & White remakes have existed since the release of Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. Before the updated Gen 4 games, Pokemon created remakes like HeartGold & SoulSilver and Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. Considering Gen 5 is the next to receive an enhanced version, Black & White remakes should hopefully be on the horizon. With the radio silence surrounding Black & White reboots, players have searched for possible teasers. Now, trainers are convinced Sword & Shield teased the remakes’ future titles. Pokemon Sword & Shield trainers find alleged Black & White teaser Pokemon leaker SoulSilverArt posted that several people have sent them a picture from Sword & Shield. The image includes an NPC asking whether players want the “Sparking White” or “Glistening Black” bike design. Consequently, some trainers assumed these names could be the title of the Black & White remakes. “It’s a fun idea, but I don’t think there’s anything really to it, SoulSilverArt wrote. “GF doesn’t normally tease remakes so far in advance-like this would be a whole 3(& a DLC) games before we might actually get BW remakes.” Additionally, Sword & Shield players previously pointed out how one room in Circhester’s Hotel Ionia possibly teased Scarlet & Violet. The wallpaper displayed oranges and grapes – a prominent symbol of the Gen 9 games for Naranja and Uva Academy. The Spanish translation of Naranja and Uva is orange and grape. While Scarlet & Violet takes place in Mediterranean Spain, some believe Pokemon hinted at the location for the Gen 10 games. In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, the Game Director in the Sinnoh remakes greets players with “Ciao,” the Italian word for hello and goodbye. To find out if the rumors are true, stay updated with our Pokemon coverage.

Pokemon Stadium, Mario Party, more leaked for Nintendo Switch N64 lineup – Dexerto
Pokemon Stadium, Mario Party, more leaked for Nintendo Switch N64 lineup Pokemon, NintendoNintendo Switch players can finally explore some an early range of N64 titles, however, the lineup could be getting a jolt of beloved classics according to a newly discovered datamine leak. Since the Nintendo Switch launched back in March 2017, familiar franchises have made the leap to the handheld console. Between numerous Legend of Zelda titles and spinoffs, as well as the soon-to-be-released GTA Definitive Edition remasters, fans have mostly remained pleased by the console’s offerings. The recent launch of the Nintendo 64 emulation service (billed at an extra $50 per year) has brought iconic games such as Mario Kart 64, Star For 64, and the much revered Banjo-Kazooie to the party too. Now, the service could be set to add some seriously impressive additional games too. Datamine reveals potential iconic N64 games The addition of the Nintendo 64 library to the Switch is in its early days but has immense potential given the fans clamoring for older games and being able to play them on the go. With speculation already surrounding fan-favorite titles such as Goldeneye 007 and others, it appears Nintendo has some surprises up their sleeve for the near future. Thanks to dataminer @Mondo_Mega, we potentially have the first look at upcoming titles due to drop onto Nintendo Switch Online. Pointing out that list is sorted into “alphabetical order,” Mega also noted that “going by the game IDs there are at least 38 N64 titles planned for NSO.” Initial datamining from the N64 app is somewhat fruitful. Going by the game IDs there are at least 38 N64 titles planned for NSO. The list is alphabetical so you can fill in some of the gaps already; 37 is Majora, 32 is Smash, 33 is Wave Race, 14-16 is Mario Party, etc. pic.twitter.com/tiVcugmc88 — MondoMega (@Mondo_Mega) October 26, 2021 Fans anticipating the lineup have pitched in towards Mega’s findings, as @DarkYuda posits that the likes of Tony Hawk (Pro Skater), Turok, and Ridge Racer 64 are possible titles appearing down the line. The future of Nintendo’s emulated service could wind up as an exceptional win if maintained properly. However, with teething issues related to performance and input lag, it remains to be seen whether they can keep players pleased in the long run.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet version 1.2 update announced for February – Dexerto
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet version 1.2 update announced for February The Pokemon CompanyPokemon Scarlet & Violet will be getting even more improvements when the version 1.2 update drops in February, it has been confirmed. Although they made history as Nintendo’s biggest launch in history, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet have been plagued by bugs, glitches, and plenty of lag – issues that persist even two months on from release. It’s now been announced by The Pokemon Company and Nintendo that Pokemon Scarlet & Violet will get a new version 1.2 update in February. It will “include bug fixes and add functionality” to the games. There’s no word on what that added functionality will be, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that this update will help fix at least some of the issues that players have been experiencing since launch. This will be the second update the games have received, after the first one (version 1.1) was made available for download at the beginning of December. When that update was released, Nintendo acknowledged that players “may encounter issues that affect the games’ performance” and formally apologized “for the inconvenience”. They also promised to keep working on further “improvements” to the games, although we still don’t know exactly what is going to be improved or fixed in future updates. At the same time as this update was announced, The Pokemon Company released a commemorative video celebrating 1008 Pokemon now being available across the franchise. It’s also been revealed that Fairy-type Tandemaus will be appearing in Tera Raid Battles to celebrate Valentine’s Day from February 13 to February 15.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trainer obliterates 7-star Hisuian Typhlosion with Magikarp – Dexerto
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trainer obliterates 7-star Hisuian Typhlosion with Magikarp The Pokemon CompanyA Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trainer has once again used a Magikarp to one-hit KO a 7-star Tera Raid target—this time being Hisuian Typhlosion. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is hosting yet another 7-star Tera Raid event featuring a starter Pokemon from past games. This time, trainers can take on Hisuian Typhlosion from Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Like the 7-star raids before it, Hisuian Typhlosion is no joke. However, that hasn’t stopped some savvy trainers from taking down the powerful Fire/Ghost-type with some impressive strategies. This was highlighted by one trainer who managed to knock out Hisuian Typhlosion in just one hit, using Gen 1 weakest Pokemon: Magikarp. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trainers score OHKO with Magikarp A post on the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet subreddit from a user named Nommable123 showed off the strat they used to take down Hisuian Typhlosion. Alongside the Magikarp holding a Choice Band with the Ability Rattled, the other trainers on the team used a Kommo-o holding a Liechi Berry with Bulletproof, an Annihilape with a Wide Lens, and a Medicham holding a Kasib Berry with Pure Power. To start things off, Medicham used Light Screen to keep the team alive. Next, Kommo-o used Fling on Magikarp to activate Rattled to raise its Speed and Attack by one stage. After that, Kommo-o set up a Rain Dance. With Raid Dance in effect, Annihilape then uses Swagger on Magikarp twice to raise its Attack, then Screech on both Magikarp and Typhlosion. Screech will lower Magikarp’s Defense enough that False Swipe puts it in critical health. Next, Magikarp used a Defense Cheer and then two Heal Cheers for survivability and to cure its Confusion. Finally, Medicham used Helping Hand and Skill Swap on Magikarp to give it Pure Power, then used an Attack Cheer. Kommo-o then used Screech on Typhlosion Twice to lower its Defense, then False Swipe on Magikarp. With all the setup finished, Magikarp used Flail to knock out the 7-star Hisuian Typhlosion in just one hit. Now that this trainer has defeated both Hisuian Decidueye and Typhlosion with Magikarp, all that remains is Hisuian Samurott, and the Legends: Arceus starters will all have been defeated by Gen 1’s flopping fish.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trainer finds handy trick to find authentic Poltchageist – Dexerto
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trainer finds handy trick to find authentic Poltchageist The Pokemon CompanyA Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trainer has shared a helpful tip to help fans get guaranteed encounters with the incredibly rare authentic Poltchageist form. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s Teal Mask DLC introduced a new convergent Pokemon based on Gen 8’s Sinistea. This convergent form is called Poltchageist and is based on match green tea powder. Like Sinistea before it, Poltchageist can be encountered in two distinct forms: Unremarkable Form and Masterpiece Form. These two forms are incredibly hard to distinguish, but the Masterpiece form is much harder to find. Now, a Scarlet & Violet player has discovered a handy trick that lets trainers find guaranteed encounters with an authentic Poltchageist. However, it requires some work. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trainer shares helpful Poltchageist Mass Outbreak tip The tip comes from a Twitter user named SBCoop, who noticed something interesting while watching a stream from content creator Reversal. According to SBCoop, if trainers have completed the Pokedex but still see a question mark on the map denoting a Mass Outbreak where Poltchageist spawns in Kitakami, it is highly likely to be an outbreak of the authentic form. Additionally, trainers can even alter the Switch’s date and time settings to reset Mass Outbreaks. This forces these specific outbreaks with a lot of patience and perseverance. This trick isn’t just limited to Poltchageist and Sinistea either. It can work with any Pokemon that has multiple forms, like Tatsugiri and Maushold. This is also a helpful tip for Shiny hunters, as Mass Outbreaks have a higher chance of yielding Shiny Pokemon. Using this trick, trainers can catch an extremely rare Shiny authentic Poltchageist. To put it into perspective, the odds of naturally running into a Shiny authentic Poltchageist could be as low as 1 in 65,536 spawns. Needless to say, fans who can catch one for themselves would have some series bragging rights.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trainer finds creepy “biblically accurate” Haxorus glitch – Dexerto
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trainer finds creepy “biblically accurate” Haxorus glitch The Pokemon CompanyEven after almost two years of release, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trainers are still finding new glitches in the game, such as this “biblically accurate” Haxorus bug. According to a fan by the name Extension_Major_9013 on the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet subreddit, they stumbled upon an all-new and entirely creepy bug surrounding a realistic eyeball texture. The trainer said, “I was just doing some move changing some of the moves of my Haxorus and this happened.” They included a picture of the glitch, which showed the Haxorus‘ move menu coupled with numerous realistic eyeball textures plastered across the screen. These eyeball images showed up on the stat screen, behind Haxorus’ menu sprite, and behind the Giga Impact move. Fans in the comments were disturbed by the glitch, with many expressing confusion at the picture included. “Biblically accurate Haxorus,” one fan said, referencing the popular internet meme of drawing angels with numerous realistic eyes. Other players commented things like, “New creepypasta dropped,” and “This gentleman is playing Pokemon whilst living in Silent Hill.” Some trainers even said that they would likely stop playing Pokemon Scarlet & Violet if they encountered this glitch. “I think if this actually happened to me, I’d have no choice but to turn my switch off and never touch it again. I’d just straight up get rid of the thing.” Scarlet & Violet are by far the glitchiest Pokemon titles to date, with the game’s erratic performance and abundance of bugs being a hot-button issue during the game’s launch. Even now, trainers are still finding new and “terrifying” glitches that take them by surprise. Unfortunately for those curious, if they can reproduce this eerie eyeball glitch for themselves, no one has deduced what caused it. Some players guessed the game was taking the texture file for the main character’s iris and reproducing it in the menus. Others were skeptical of whether or not the OP’s Switch console was hacked and they created the ‘glitch’ themselves. However, what actually caused it to occur remains a mystery.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet The Indigo Disk DLC – Complete Blueberry Pokedex – Dexerto
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet The Indigo Disk DLC – Complete Blueberry Pokedex The Pokemon CompanyThe second part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, The Indigo Disk, is finally out. Players can go back to Paldea to explore the Blueberry Academy and an undiscovered part of Area Zero while searching for all the new and returning creatures the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC offers. The final downloadable content for Gen 9 brings players back to the Paldea region, as well as the mysterious Area Zero, where all the Paradox Pokemon are originally from. After going through Kitakami, and meeting Ogerpon and The Loyal Three on The Teal Mask, players will now join the Blueberry Academy, a half-underwater school, as exchange students. This Academy is best known for its double battles, a tough Elite Four, and a beautiful Terarium that recreates four different biomes and makes you feel like you are actually in the outside world. Once you finish The Teal Mask DLC and trigger The Indigo Disk in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, you’ll need the full list of Pokemon you’ll have to catch to complete the Blueberry Pokedex. Following that premise, this new DLC brings to the table 243 Pokemon ready to be captured by trainers from all around the world. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players desperate for better Post-Game DLC – Dexerto
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players desperate for better Post-Game DLC The Pokemon CompanyPokemon Scarlet & Violet players are frustrated with a lack of content in the post-game, with many hoping the Battle Tower or Battle Facility to be added in potential future DLC. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players have had a busy first few months of Gen 9. Between battling various Gym Leaders, taking on Titans, and tackling Team Star, early gameplay offers limitless options for a trainer’s journey. However, those who rushed through early gameplay to access the Seven-Star Tera Raids, which only become available after completing the post-game, are finding themselves without much to do. Currently, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet don’t have a Battle Tower or any other post-game challenges, and this leaves Shiny hunting and Tera Raids as the main focus points. While these challenges can be fun, Gen 9 players are beginning to vocalize a desire for additional end-game goals, and are hopeful something may be added in potential future DLC. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players are ready for DLC In a Twitter post by Pory_Leeks, the player shares their frustration with the Gen 9 post-game, stating: “We need to get some battle facilities like a battle tower or something in the Pokémon Scarlet/Violet DLC. The base game was lacking in the post-game department tbh. Trainer cameos from other regions would be nice for world-building as well. The school tournament wasn’t enough.” Pokemon Scarlet & Violet fans in the comments have eagerly agreed, with one sharing, “Imagine Red and Blue returning for the first time since Gen 7 (Yes I know they’re in LGPE and Masters, I meant them as Adults in the main games)” and another adding, “Due to the focus on competitive we are having since gen8, it is not too farfetched a BF returning to act as a preparing area for competitors. I mean, diminish the number of battles from 49 to 3, and use AIs trained with past battle recordings from tournaments (not hard nowadays).” Other players point out that the post-game needs additional story, and more accessibility, with one player commenting, “The game desperately needs three things: a Battle Tower, a Linear Mode, and being able to unlock the post-game by doing only one of the three paths (leave the Area Zero epilogue for some silly reward like a Shiny Charm).” Currently, there hasn’t been an official confirmation that DLC is planned for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, but after the success of the DLC Expansion Pass with Sword & Shield, it seems likely Gen 9 will receive a similar feature. DLC could be the solution to keeping players invested in Paldea for the next several years.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet player “terrified” by Dynamax glitch no one has seen before – Dexerto
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet player “terrified” by Dynamax glitch no one has seen before Game Freak/The Pokemon CompanyJust when you thought it was safe to explore The Terarium, a new threat is looming over Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players, as a terrifying new glitch has one trainer running for the hills. As Pokemon Scarlet & Violet has now been available for well over a year, many players have already seen more bugs than a trip through Viridian Forest. However, the recent addition of the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Indigo Disk DLC, as well as the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Epilogue means there are new features, areas to explore, and glitches for fans to discover as well. For one Pokemon Scarlet & Violet player, they encountered a particularly “huge” glitch, which harkens back to the Dynamax days of Pokemon Sword and Shield. It’s not entirely clear how this happened, but most Pokemon fans probably wouldn’t want to see this at 2 AM. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet player terrorized by Dynamax Froakie Pokemon Scarlet & Viuoley player Hikarix33 have shared a post on Reddit, showcasing a frankly horrifying glitch that has one Pokemon in particular chasing them around the map. They comment saying, “I wasn’t aware dynamax was a thing in Unova” before following up by adding, “This was at like 2am and I was TERRIFIED.” Other Pokemon players are having a lot of fun with the silly clip in the comments, with one person joking by saying, “Your dreams have meaning behind them! My dreams:” Another comment adds, “Dynamax PS1 Froakie doesn’t exist, Dynamax PS1 Froakie can’t hurt you.” One person even adds to the thread by saying, “Got the exact same Dynamax!” Then, shares a photo of an eerily similar bug and another giant Froakie taking over the screen. A comment enthusiastically replies, saying, “This might be one of my favorite glitches I’ve seen on here, thanks for sharing!” Before another comment quips, “I bet it’s got a jumbo mark.” As Pokemon Scarlet & Violet wind down to a close, and all eyes are on the next games in the franchise, at least fans know they can make their own fun in Paldea for years to come.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet player finds “hilarious” use for new DLC mechanic – Dexerto
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet player finds “hilarious” use for new DLC mechanic The Pokemon CompanyA Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trainer shared a “hilarious” clip of the new Synchro Machine feature in action and the community loved it. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s Indigo Disk DLC introduced a handful of new elements, such as the new Stellar Tera Type and the Item Printer. A brand new mechanic that arrived with the Indigo Disk DLC was the Synchro Machine feature, which allows trainers to take control of Pokemon themselves to run around the environment. Fans have already discovered some interesting uses for this feature, but one player shared a “hilarious” clip using a specific Pokemon and the community absolutely loved it. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet fan finds hilarious Synchro Machine use The post comes from the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet subreddit, where a trainer shared a 30-second clip of the Synchro Machine function in action. In the video, the player took control of a Toedscool to move around the Terarium. Any player who’s seen Toedscool in the wild can guess what happened next. Just like a wild Toedscool, the trainer was able to move at blisteringly fast speeds, rocketing past wild Pokemon and even running up the sides of mountains. Members of the Pokemon community loved the video thanks to the goofy nature of Toedscool. “The squishy sounds from the tentacles is hilarious,” one trainer noted. Despite the Synchro Machine being a completely optional feature, it made Gen 9 the best in the series. “Gen 9 deniers: look at this and tell me with a straight face this isn’t peak gaming, oh no, you can’t,” said one player. Others wondered whether or not any other Pokemon could beat Toedscool in a race. “Wonder if Sudowoodo runs as fast as his wild counterpart,” asked a fan. Unfortunately, some in the comments confirmed Sudowoodo doesn’t run nearly as fast as the Gen 9 Ground/Grass-type. Scarlet & Violet fans looking for more Synchro Machine fun should take Gholdengo for a spin, as the Stell/Ghost-type can actually ride its skateboard around in the wild.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet player enraged by “sick joke” after failed rare Blaze Paldean Tauros encounter – Dexerto
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet player enraged by “sick joke” after failed rare Blaze Paldean Tauros encounter The Pokemon CompanyA Pokemon Scarlet & Violet player finally encountered the rare Blaze Breed Paldean Tauros while exploring, but the success was undermined by the unwanted reveal of a sneaky surprise. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet fans have a big job when it comes to completing the Paldean Pokedex in Gen 9. With over 400 species to catch, battle, or trade, exploring every inch of the open-world map is a must for dedicated trainers. However, some Pokemon are proving to be much harder to come by than others. Check out the best Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals on Amazon Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are the first games in several generations to skip a large debut of “regional” forms. In the past, these have included Sun & Moon’s Alolan Vulpix and Sword & Shield Galarian Zigzagoon among many others. However, only Wooper and Tauros have been given Paldean forms in Gen 9, making them a special find for regional variant fans. While Paldean Wooper is seen almost immediately after starting the game, trainers have to wait a bit longer to see the new Paldean Tauros. Additionally, Paldean Tauros has three different forms: Fighting, Water, and Fire. The Fire-type Tauros, known as the “Blaze Breed”, is a particularly difficult find for most players. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Player’s rare Tauros turns into Ditto In a Twitter post shared by Krembeni, the player offers a video clip that looks like a true moment of triumph, with the main character of Violet & Scarlet approaching the rare “Blaze Breed” Paldean Tauros. However, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet fans already knew something is amiss, as the text above the video read, “WHAT A SICK JOKE, THIS IS NOT FUNNY”. As the player engaged the wild Paldean Tauros in battle, it suddenly vanished in a bright flash of light. In its place, a Ditto mockingly faced the unlucky trainer. While it is known that both Zorua and Ditto can be found hidden in the wild as other species, this particular disguise was a really unpleasant “joke” for Krembeni. Fans commiserated with the player, with one stating, “I finished the game two days ago and only just today did I find a blaze Tauros, immediately after I find another one in the same area” while another added “Imagine my surprise when I accidentally bumped into a Grafaiai and it turned out to be a Zorua in disguise”. While the Ditto mechanic in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is definitely impressive, fans will want to be extra vigilant that the species they are hunting don’t overlap the spawn locations of the tricky imposter. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Luvdisc Tera Raid: Tera type, counters, and rewards – Dexerto
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Luvdisc Tera Raid: Tera type, counters, and rewards Game Freak/The Pokemon CompanyPokemon Scarlet & Violet are hosting a Valentine’s Day celebration, and it’s a great opportunity to bag a lovely Pokemon with Luvdisc, as well as earn yourself some Tera Raid battle rewards. It’s never a bad time to spread some love, and that’s exactly what Game Freak is doing with the latest Pokemon Scarlet & Violet event. Players can log on soon to take part in Luvdisc Tera Raid battles, and also have the chance to earn some great rewards in the process. Luvdisc is, naturally, the love Pokemon — as it is a fish in the shape of a love heart. While not everyone loves this Pokemon, it’s a cute thing to trade with your partner. So, learn all about this event, as well as the rewards, with our guide: Contents Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Luvdisc Tera Raid dates – Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Luvdisc Tera Raid counters and type – Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Luvdisc Tera Raid rewards – Can Luvdisc be Shiny? – When is the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Luvdisc Tera Raid event? The Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Luvdisc Tera Raid event runs from Sunday, February 11, 2024, at 4:00 PM PST, until Thursday, February 15, 2024, and 3:59 PM PST. During this time, Luvdisc will appear more frequently in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Tera Raid battles. While Luvdisc isn’t a rare Pokemon, and neither is this a particularly tough Tera Raid, the extra rewards make this a great way for beginner players to add some extra items to their inventory. These are especially helpful for training up weaker Pokemon. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Luvdisc Tera Raid counters and type During this event, Luvdisc will be appearing in 3-Star to 5-Star raids, meaning it can be fairly tough to beat, but nowhere near the 7-Star raids that normally occur with powerful Pokemon like Empoleon or Blaziken. Luvdisc that appear as part of this event have the Fairy Tera-type, making them weak to Poison-type, and Steel-type. Pokemon that appear in Tera Raid events also normally have their Hidden Ability, so we expect Luvdisc’s build to look something like this: So while Luvdisc certainly isn’t going to be as difficult as a Mewtwo raid, it’ll still pose a challenge for trainers just starting out and is a great entry for Tera Raid to let less experienced players cut their teeth on this fun battle system. Whether you’re a fledgling player and want to add Luvdisc to your collection, or are a veteran trainer hoping to earn bags of nice rewards, here are some of the best counters for the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Luvdisc Tera Raid event: Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Luvdisc Tera Raid rewards Players that defeat Luvdisc as part of the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Tera Raid event have an increased chance of earning the following rewards: Exp. Candy S – Exp. Candy M – Exp. Candy L – Exp. Candy XL – Rare Candy – Fairy Tera Shard – Can Luvdisc be Shiny? While nothing is confirmed, we expect the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Luvdisc Tera Raid event to be consistent with previous events. Non-legendary or event Pokemon such as Luvdisc are usually available in their Shiny form, however, basic odds are not increased. So while it may be possible to encounter a Shiny Luvdisc in these Tera Raid battles, it’s not worth counting on it, as the odds are usually the same as in the overworld for regular encounters, so just over 1/4000. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet fans are convinced Skeledirge is the best fire starter – Dexerto
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet fans are convinced Skeledirge is the best fire starter The Pokemon CompanyPokemon Scarlet & Violet fans are comparing all the past Fire-type starter designs, and are convinced Skeledirge is finally a step in the right direction. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet fans have been settling into the Paldea region with plenty of new Pokemon species. This includes the three new starters Fuecoco, Sprigatito, and Quaxly. Starters can cause a good deal of controversy when prepping to delve into a new chapter of the series, and the Gen 9 set hasn’t escaped the critical lens. However, fans have been pleasantly surprised – especially regarding Fuecoco. Fuecoco is a small, reptilian Fire-type that looks like a cross between a teddy bear and a tiny crocodile. Despite having a very awkward middle evolution, its final form Skeledirge is a refreshing break from the past trend of bi-pedal, humanoid Fire starters. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet fans have taken to social media to discuss the change, with many comparing the Fire/Ghost-type to companions of previous generations. The stark difference helps Skeledirge stand out, and even puts it above many other options according to fans. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet fans are happy for their crocodile In a Twitter post by PkmnBrainrot, the Scarlet and Violet fan shares an image of every Fire-type starter from each generation. The image includes a comment about each different design, and how they become increasingly more human. It has been a long-standing joke that Fire-starters are doomed to stand upright on two legs, regardless of what their first or second evolutions look like. However, with Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s Fuecoco, Crocalor, and Skeledirge, it seems the process went in reverse – and fans are loving it. One player comments, “Evolution at its best” while another adds “Skeledirge be like: I am P A M C A K E”. Another Skeledirge enthusiast states, “He is the best Fire starter to me, love his typing” while one happy fan exclaims “WE’RE FREE FROM THE CURSE”. Humorously, while Skeledirge gets to scuttle on all fours, both Meowscarda and Quaquaval are running around on two legs with surprisingly human forms. It seems the need for humanoid starter Pokemon still had to be placed somewhere.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer teases bizarre new Region theme – Dexerto
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer teases bizarre new Region theme The Pokemon CompanyPokemon Scarlet and Violet is set to take players to a brand new region and eagle-eyed players think they’ve spotted an early theme for the fresh location. Scarlet and Violet’s release is still a while away but the earliest teasers already have fans on the hunt for new information on the new era of Pokemon. That means that every single glimpse of footage is being examined under the metaphorical microscope, and that persistence may have paid off this time around. After careful examination of the game’s second teaser, it seems that a peculiar trend emerged throughout the footage. Secret gym clues may have been exposed in the second Pokemon Scarlet and Violet teaser The big thing that fans have latched onto is the appearance of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s new legendaries: Koraidon and Miraidon. Both of these exotic new creatures have characteristics that resemble vehicle parts, and with a little help from some other teaser details, trainers are starting to put together what that means for the game. One excited fan broke things down piece by piece for the respective new additions: “The legendaries look rideable! The red one has a wheel on its chest, its horns look like motorcycle handles, and the feathers look like a seat, while the violet one had jet engines, shoulder handles, and also a seat!” On top of this, the game’s second teaser also showed off a revamped Pokemon Center theme that is only adding fuel to the fire. Instead of the iconic multi-story buildings of the series’ past, the new-look version looks far more like a gas station with a concession window. Also, motorsports are widely popular in Spain, which means this lines up well with the other Spanish influences that have been revealed so far As for how far this vehicle influence goes across the rest of the region, players will have to wait for another trailer to make heads or tails of the situation.

Pokemon players reveal “rarest” Pokemon in their collection – Dexerto
Pokemon players reveal “rarest” Pokemon in their collection The Pokemon CompanyPokemon fans are showing off the rare ‘mons they’ve acquired over the years, many resulting from mistakes or unique circumstances. Pokemon X & Y drastically improved the online modes introduced in Gen 4. This made it a lot easier for players to trade for Pokemon that they didn’t have before, but it also had the knock-on effect of making Pokemon as a whole a lot less rare. Some Pokemon are still extremely rare, and that’s not even counting Shiny variants. Some can’t even be brought to the modern games, like Spiky-Eared Pichu, which is trapped in Gen 4, as it was never added to the later games. Shiny Pokemon add another dimension to rareness, such as the Safari Zone Chansey, with its incredibly low encounter rate and catch chance. Don’t forget Shiny Vespiquen, as you need to meet a Shiny female Combee, which spawns at a much lower rate than its male counterparts. A user on the Pokemon Reddit created a thread asking fans to share their rarest catches. These include Mew distributed to the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console versions of Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow, which was only given out at Pokemon Sun & Moon launch parties. Many rare Pokemon were only given away during special events, such as the Aura Mew in Pokemon Emerald, Ho-Oh and Lugia from the Pokemon Rocks America tour, and the Arceus given away at Gamestop events. Some people also claim to have Mew from the original Pokemon distribution events. Unfortunately, battery degradation and the inability to trade them forward means these are likely long done. The Shiny hunters are the ones who put in the hours, with some users claiming to have Shadow Gen 2 starters from Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, the Shiny Legendary Beast trio, and even Shiny gender-locked evolution Pokemon, like Salandit. While online trading and regular Mythical & Legendary distribution events have made rare Pokemon more common, there are still some out there that are highly desired by collectors due to how they cannot easily be caught in the modern games.

Pokemon players lament the loss of Gen 6 character customization years later – Dexerto
Pokemon players lament the loss of Gen 6 character customization years later The Pokemon CompanyOver a decade after its release, Pokemon fans are lamenting the loss of character customization that was present in the Generation 6 titles, X & Y. While trainers could choose between a male or female avatar starting with Pokemon Crystal, full character customization was not introduced to the series until Gen 6. In Pokemon X & Y, players had a wide variety of cosmetic options at their disposal to create their own avatars, including skin tone, hair color, hairstyles, and an abundance of clothing options. While character customization has returned in later Gens, it’s sporadic in its overall quality and breadth compared to X & Y. Now, trainers have started to mourn the loss of what once was in Gen 6. Competitive VGC player ChuppaVGC sparked a discussion on X after they posted: “Remember when Pokemon released player customization for the first time and then took it away 1 year later in ORAS.” Alongside the tweet, they shared images of a customized character in X & Y next to Brendan from ORAS, which cut avatar customization altogether. Many fans agreed in the comments and expressed disappointment that the same level of quality hasn’t returned since. “Remember when they finally brought it back in SM and it had LESS options than in XY? And how in every gen after, they gave us even less options until they outright removed the ability to your shirt n bottoms? Progress! … No, wait whats the opposite of that,” said one trainer. Another fan said, “The worst offender was the transition between Sword & Shield to Scarlet & Violet. It was a buffet of British style clothing to 4 different types of school uniforms in different colors.” The lack of true character customization in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet was a hot-button topic among players. While fans could customize their avatar’s physical characteristics, clothing options were limited to a small set of uniforms. With Pokemon Legends Z-A taking fans back to Kalos, hopefully, trainers will once again find a robust avatar customization system in the region where it all began.

Pokemon Legends Arceus had a Z-A Easter egg all along and no one knew – Dexerto
Pokemon Legends Arceus had a Z-A Easter egg all along and no one knew The Pokemon CompanyThe announcement of a new Pokemon Legends title had players going back to Pokemon Legends Arceus to see if they missed anything about Z-A. Turns out, they did. Pokemon Legends Z-A was announced on Pokemon Day this year and the community has been incredibly excited about it ever since. Many fans have been revisiting Pokemon Legends Arceus to see if they missed anything – and turns out, they did. A possible hint about Pokemon Legends Z-A can be found right at the beginning of PLA and players have been unpacking it online, trying to see if there’s anything more to the story. Pokemon players spot Z-A hint in Pokemon Legends Arceus Originally popping up in this X post, a Pokemon player put up screen grabs from Pokemon Legends Arceus and Pokemon X & Y side by side, comparing the t-shirts seen on both characters. It’s very clearly the same design and the original poster commented that it “makes a lot of sense”. If you’ve not seen anything about Pokemon Legends Z-A yet, it’s set entirely in Lumiose City which is one of the key locations from Pokemon X & Y. Some fans believe that the lore of PLA will cross over directly with the lore from this new game. The “essential t-shirt” can be seen in the opening sequence for Pokemon Legends Arceus on one of the player characters. The other player character can be seen wearing an Alola shirt, kickstarting fan theories and debates in the community. Pokemon players responded to this post with their own theories and speculation about the potential links between PLA and Z-A, with one person saying, “Imagine if the opening for Arceus is the end credits scene of Pokemon Z after he helps rebuild Kalos”. Another player mentioned “Imagine you insert the game to Switch, it reads your Arceus data, then keeps your clothing, hair, pokemon and etc when u play ZA” which would certainly be a fun link between the two titles. Not everyone was sold on the idea of the shirt theory, though. One frustrated player replied to the original post by simply saying, “It’s… just a t-shirt”. Another said that it’s “just a coincidence”. Whichever side you’re leaning towards, it will be interesting to see what the story of Pokemon Legends Z-A is like. The last Legends game added a lot of depth (and confusion, in places) to the world of Pokemon so it makes sense to see fan theories and wishes popping up already.

NFL player Jamaal Williams reveals favorite Pokemon type and explains what an Eevee is – Dexerto
NFL player Jamaal Williams reveals favorite Pokemon type and explains what an Eevee is Pride Of DetroitNew Orleans Saints running back Jamaal Williams revealed his favorite Pokemon type to reporters. The NFL player also offered a simple explanation of what an Eevee looked like. Formerly on the Detroit Lions, Williams trended on social media for his introduction as the “first Swagg Kazekage” during an NFL game in January 2023. In the video, he wears a Naruto headband and jacket from the classic shonen anime. After seeming uninterested in a question, Williams responded, “I don’t care. I just want to play football and go home. But you’re holding me right now. I just wanna go home and play Pokemon.” The running back also became offended when a reporter mistakenly pronounced Pokemon as “Pokeman.” “Don’t do that,” Williams said. “You can’t disrespect Pokemon like that. Pokeman?” Williams Reveals His Favorite Pokemon Type ESPN uploaded an interview with Williams wearing an Eevee hat while he answered various questions related to Pokemon. The football player explained that Eevee was “basically a cat” with the ability to evolve into eight different Pokemon, otherwise known as Eeevelutions. Williams then declared that he would become a Dark-type trainer if given the opportunity. He assumed reporters may have thought he would have picked a more cheerful typing before Williams menacingly laughed. The NFL player also brought the Eevee hat and a Nintendo Switch to his official signing with the Saints. On the Reddit forum r/pokemon, user Greninjahax posted a picture of Williams in a Gengar beanie during another post-game interview. The comment section praised the player’s style choice and called him a “national treasure.” New_Essay_4869 added that Jarrett Allen of the Cleveland Cavaliers played Pokemon during the announcement of his All-Star title. Williams isn’t the only NFL player to geek out about Pokemon. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes shared that the team created a Pikachu-inspired play for Super Bowl 57 against the Philadelphia Eagles on February 12. Mahomes revealed they attempted to pass the ball to a “big Pokemon collector” and named the formation “Gotta Catch ‘Em All.” At the Superbowl, the Chiefs prevailed over the Eagles with a final score of 38-35.

Pokemon Go trainers love new Daily Adventure Incense – Dexerto
Pokemon Go trainers love new Daily Adventure Incense NianticPokemon Go has released its newest addition to the game, Daily Adventure Incense, and fans are absolutely in love with it. Over the last few months, Pokemon Go trainers have had various issues with the game’s incense complaining that it’s been nerfed and is nearly unusable. Niantic released Daily Adventure Incense on July 25, 2022, to give players a new way to attract more wild Pokemon and even rare encounters. The item lasts just 15 minutes, works best when you’re out moving around, and better yet — it’s free every single day. Fans love Pokemon Go’s Daily Adventure Incense Less than 24 hours after its release, trainers began taking to the Pokemon Go subreddit to share their thoughts about the new item. Despite recent issues with regular incense, players seem to love the new Daily Adventure Incense. Rossage196 said: “Great incentive to get people to walk and do things. 15 minutes is perfect to take a quick break without draining time from people’s tough schedules. “Great selection of pokemon including evolutions and Jangmo-o etc. this is an AMAZING release for the birds.” With nearly 400 upvotes, it’s clear that many people agree with the statement. Sutinguv2 replied to the post: “In my 15 minutes today I caught 11 pokemon, it was a slightly rural area in England, the only time I had a 2-minute stint where nothing spawned, was when I slowed down.” While _Tommar_ said: “This is a much better way to try and get people to walk. People are much more likely to enjoy something new as an incentive than something being taken away.” Pokemon Go has also launched a new set of Special Research tasks to celebrate the launch of the new item, which is available now.

Pokemon Go trainer reveals most encountered Pokemon in 2021 – Dexerto
Pokemon Go trainer reveals most encountered Pokemon in 2021 The Pokemon CompanyPokemon Go has all users encountering hundreds of different Pokemon, but which did players see the most in 2021? One trainer has found the answer and it’s not what you’d expect. Pokemon Go has made huge strides since it took over the world with its release in 2016, evolving to better suit the needs and wants of its player base. This has included several new events, Community Days, and the addition of many more types of Pokemon to the game. With so many being given boosted spawn rates with limited-time events, it begs the question… which can be found the most often? A trainer has compiled all of their encounters throughout 2021, well over 1,000 in total, and has compiled them to see which Pokemon they’ve seen the most. Surprisingly enough, there’s one clear frontrunner. Pokemon Go trainer’s most encountered Pokemon in 2021 Throughout all the community days, seasonal events, and standard gameplay, which Pokemon show up the most in Pokemon Go? Well, according to data shared to the Pokemon Go subreddit by mertcatal, the answer is fairly clear – Eevee. Over the course of well over 1,000 encounters from the active player, they ran into Eevee a staggering 409 times. Second, after the adorable dog came Aron at 146 and Oshawott at 138 took third. While this data is only illustrating one player’s experience, the results likely reflect at least somewhat what other trainers have seen as well. Eevee taking the number one spot, from a developer perspective, does make sense. It has the potential to turn into a number of different evolutions, something no other Pokemon can do at the same capacity, meaning that players would need many more of them to get all the evolutions. But, at over double the next Pokemon, is there cause to be concerned about a bit too much Eevee in the Pokemon Go experience? Either way, outside of Aron and Oshawott’s relatively high numbers, most other mons held around 40-70 encounters in the year. Only Bidoof, Pikachu, and Gastly were otherwise able to crack triple digits. With 2022 right around the corner, who knows how these numbers will change moving forward, or what new Pokemon the new year will bring us. Who are you hoping to see next year?

Pokemon Go trainer devastated as Go Plus+ reveals insane Shiny encounters they missed – Dexerto
Pokemon Go trainer devastated as Go Plus+ reveals insane Shiny encounters they missed NianticA series of insane missed Shiny encounters on the Pokemon Go Plus+ has left one Pokemon Go trainer absolutely devastated, with tons of fans flocking to share in their pain. Since the Pokemon Go Plus+ was released, Pokemon Go fans have been enjoying auto-catching Pokemon, grabbing resources without their phones, and even being rewarded while sleeping. It’s the ultimate hands-off Pokemon Go tool, allowing all fans the chance to fill their Pokedex no matter where they go. However, while that idea is fantastic on paper, one Pokemon Go Plus+ trainer has revealed a devastating missed opportunity featuring some insane back-to-back Shiny encounters. Missed Shiny encounters leaves Pokemon Go Plus+ player “appalled” Sharing their frustrations, Pokemon Go user Micosama posted an image on Reddit, detailing two consecutive Shiny Pokemon, missed within less than a minute of each other. “I am appalled right now,” they went on to explain, detailing how “this was the first time this has happened to me and this was supposedly my first back2back wild shiny spawn and my FIRST EVER SHINY SLUGMA. I don’t know what to feel right now.” Some Pokemon Go players felt the user’s pain, while also joking about the nature of the gadget, commenting “damn, even when you pay to win, you still lose. Curse you Niantic!” However, many trainers were quick to offer advice to ensure the player never has to have this happen again, explaining how “the trick is to never look at the journal after using the Go Plus +” highlighting the age-old saying “ignorance is bliss!” Others shared the same advice, stating how they’ve “had 2 run in my recent as well but a back-to-back definitely hurts to see” going on to offer similar advice, “I’ve learned to just not check the journal if I’m auto-catching because of stuff like this” While many shared similar advice, one player used it as a talking point to improve the Go Plus+ highlighting how they think “they need to update it. Let us have the option to use master balls and razz if it spots a shiny, let us use ultra balls if it’s over a certain CP, etc. The device is great, but it definitely has room for improvement.” These missed opportunities are certainly frustrating and it’s clear the Pokemon Go community knows this issue well, marking one downside for auto-catching and leaving many players hoping for a little more leniency.

Pokemon Go Team Rocket rewards have fans convinced Niantic is “kidding” – Dexerto
Pokemon Go Team Rocket rewards have fans convinced Niantic is “kidding” Niantic/The Pokemon CompanyA recent shuffle to Pokemon Go’s Team Rocket line-ups and rewards has fans divided, as the new pool of Pocket Monsters is underwhelming to some, with others happy with the changes. One of Pokemon Go’s most exciting features just got an update, as the Team Rocket leaders and grunts have all been given a shake-up, and this means a new batch of Pocket Monsters to battle and catch, and even some brand new Shadow Shiny Pokemon waiting to be found (if you’re lucky). However, despite huge changes to Giovanni, Arlo, Sierra, Cliff, and the Team Rocket Grunts, many fans are unhappy with the new changes, calling the new selection of catchable Pokemon “underwhelming” in a recent Reddit post. Pokemon Go player u/Entire_Pineapple4732 shared the original post, alongside the comment, “They’ve gotta be kidding… Not a single Pseudo legendary?” They’re referring to the new rewards for beating Team Rocket bosses Cliff, Sierra, and Arlo, which are now Machop, Cacnea, and Trapinch. Other Pokemon Go players are sharing their disappointment in the comments, with one person adding, “Cacnea is the worst lol Arlo got trolled”. Meanwhile, another user replies, “finally arlo gets something random again”. Not everyone is down on the new picks, though, with plenty of fans happy for the chance to catch a Shadow Trapinch, and of course, the elusive Shiny Shadow Trapinch is a possibility as well. One person says, “I am pretty excited for the opportunity for shiny Shadow Trapinch”. Finally, another person asks, “What gave you the idea that at least one of them must have a pseudo legendary? That’s never been established as a rule. In fact the first shiny shadow trio were Meowth, Sneseal and Scyther.” While it’s clear that beating the Team Rocket leaders is hard work, the increased Shiny odds and fun Pokemon to catch – even if not as powerful as some – are still a bonus that the community seems to enjoy.

Pokemon Go Scrafty: Best Moveset for PvP and Raids – Dexerto
Pokemon Go Scrafty: Best Moveset for PvP and Raids Niantic / The Pokemon CompanyTrainers can raise the Dark/Fighting-type Scrafty in Pokemon Go but may wonder what its best moveset is in PvP and Raid content. Let’s break down every move Scrafty can learn in Pokemon Go and figure out its best moveset. Pokemon Go’s World of Wonders: Taken Over event features plenty of strong Pokemon, including the Dark/Fighting-type, Scrafty. Scrafty was introduced in the mainline series in Generation 5’s Black & White, and only three other Pokemon share its unique type combination. So, trainers who want to raise their own Scrafty to take on Pokemon Go’s ever-changing content need to its best moveset. Let’s go over what moves trainers should use for both types of content. Pokemon Go Scrafty all moves Fast Moves Counter (Fighting/STAB) – Snarl (Dark/STAB) – Charged Moves Foul Play (Dark/STAB) – Acid Spray (Poison) – Power-Up Punch (Fighting/STAB) – Pokemon Go Scrafty best moveset for PvP For PvP content, the best moveset for Scrafty is Counter as the Fast Move with Foul Play and Power-Up Punch as the Charged Moves. Counter should be Scrafty’s chosen Fast Move thanks to its high damage and wider type coverage compared to the Dark-type Snarl. Foul Play should be Scrafty’s first choice of Charged Move thanks to its STAB damage. The second option should go to Power-Up Punch due to its cheap energy cost and guaranteed Attack boost. Pokemon Go Scrafty best moveset for Raids For Raid content, the best moveset for Scrafty is Snarl as the Fast Move with Foul Play and Power-Up Punch as the Charged Moves. When using Scrafty in Raid content, it’s best to make it a Dark-type attacker, so both Snarl and Foul Play are its only options. The second Charged Move slot should go to Power-Up Punch due to its utility. That’s everything you need to know about Scrafty’s best movesets in Pokemon Go. Pokemon Go PvP players debate most “hated” opponents – Dexerto
Pokemon Go PvP players debate most “hated” opponents The Pokemon CompanyPokemon Go fans sparked a debate among PvP players over who their most “hated” opponents were when battling competitively. A big element of Pokemon Go is the competitive battling scene, which has even broken into official competitive tournaments in recent years, like Pokemon Worlds. With so many Pokemon to choose from, many players try to get creative with the monsters they bring into the different Leagues. However, there are always strong Pokemon who rise above the competition. As such, some fans on social media sparked a debate about who the most “hated” Pokemon opponent was in Pokemon Go’s PvP scene. Pokemon Go fans debate most “hated” opponent in PvP A post on the Pokemon Go subreddit sparked the debate, when a user named SnooPets7261 asked, “PvP players, who’s the Pokemon you hate the most going against?” They shared two screenshots showing Swampert and Vigoroth, then explained, “I can’t pick between the two. I hate both of them equally. They continued and said, “Maybe Swampert slightly more. Have a very good win rate VS both, but still I never seem to enjoy these battles even when I win.” Many players agreed that they were tired of seeing Swampert in competitive play as it’s one of the most common sights. A handful of players called out Skeledirge. “Skeledirge is the bane of my existence,” said one player. Another said, “Skeledirge hurts. I don’t have particularly great Pokemon for GL Remix, and that one just particularly hurts my party of Clodsire/Charjabug/Steelix if they have shields…” More common picks in the comments were Pokemon like Melmetal, Greninja, and Giratina. “Giratina has a really strong defense and barely any weaknesses. I hate it,” said one fan. Many others agreed, with one player saying it was the reason they “hated Ultra League.” Considering the ever-changing meta of Pokemon Go’s PvP space, it will be interesting to see what Pokemon become the most reviled in future seasons.

Pokemon Go players wowed by “amazing” landscape mode glitch – Dexerto
Pokemon Go players wowed by “amazing” landscape mode glitch The Pokemon Company / NianticOne Pokemon Go fan stumbled across a strange landscape mode glitch and some trainers were wowed at the possibilities it could open up. Every now and again some pretty strange glitches pop up around Niantic’s mobile monster-catching game, Pokemon Go. Some glitches involve Pokemon evolving into different species while others graphically distort Pokemon into horrible monstrosities. However, some glitches have some unintended value, such as the landscape glitch that made some fans intrigued over the possibilities it could bring if it was actually implemented into the game. Pokemon Go trainers wowed by landscape glitch A player on the Pokemon Go subreddit shared evidence that they had encountered the “landscape mode” glitch, but weren’t sure how to replicate it. The OP shared a screenshot that showed the typical Pokemon Go UI flipped on its side, revealing a much wider field of view that showed far-off Gyms, Raids, and PokeStops in the distance. While some players may be seeing this landscape mode glitch for the first time, it’s actually been around for a while and can be replicated with a bit of finesse. To set up this glitch, simply open the Pokemon Go app while holding the phone sideways. Navigate to the Settings menu and click “Report High-Priority Issue” and then “Yes.” This should bring up a browser. Go to the Home screen, reopen Pokemon Go, and it should be in landscape mode. While this glitch has been known for awhile, many first-time viewers were impressed with how the game looked in landscape. “That looks amazing though…,” said one trainer. Others who’ve tried the glitch for themselves noted that while that main screen looks impressive, other aspects of the game don’t quite fit. “I did this before during Go Fest 2023, the main screen looks cool but to look at any Pokemon or the catch screen is all messed lmao.” Niantic likely hasn’t implemented official landscape mode functionality thanks to the design headaches it would include. Still, seeing Pokemon Go in landscape mode certainly has its charms.

Pokemon Go players want one simple change to ‘annoying’ egg system – Dexerto
Pokemon Go players want one simple change to ‘annoying’ egg system NianticPokemon Go players on Reddit have agreed that they want one simple change to the current egg system — the ability to delete eggs. In Pokemon Go, trainers can delete just about everything they come across. Whether it includes sending Pokemon away for candy or throwing various Potions in the trash to make room for more Poke Balls. One thing you can’t delete, however, is Eggs — meaning you have to hatch every one you come across whether you like it or not. Pokemon Go players on Reddit have come to the agreement that they want Niantic to add the ability to delete eggs into the game. Pokemon Go players want Niantic to add one feature Shared on September 12, 2023, on the Pokemon Go subreddit, users shared their thoughts about the lack of ability to delete eggs from your inventory. “I hate the egg system. I hatch a 10k, I spin a stop and it gives me another 10k. I know incubators are a major source of their income… but we should be able to delete eggs by now. This is so dumb,” Hundreds of users took to the comments to share their thoughts, with some even revealing what Pokemon they’re tired of seeing hatch from these 10 KM Eggs. “Yup. I’m honestly more annoyed about hatching the 30 eggs than doing the 60 raids lol,” One user replied. Another said: “Definitely agree bro they just want u to keep spending money that’s all.” “I walk 3-4 miles a day and hatching 10km eggs to get another stupid Rockruff is annoying,” replied a third trainer. It’s unknown if Niantic will ever add the option to delete eggs, but since they launched the sought-after Ready button for raids, some players still have hope.

Pokemon Go players want “boring” feature reworked – Dexerto
Pokemon Go players want “boring” feature reworked The Pokemon CompanyPokemon Go players want a QoL feature added to the game to remove one of the most boring and frustrating aspects of gameplay, even though Niantic is unlikely to take it out. Pokemon Go has a vocal fanbase that’s always calling for change, whether in response to the Remote Raid Pass controversy or demand for QoL changes, like the ability to skip animations. One aspect of Pokemon Go that commonly comes under fire is Egg hatching. In Pokemon Go, you require Incubators to hatch an Egg, and each has a set distance limit you need to walk before the process is complete. There are limits to how many Eggs you can carry before needing to hatch some to make room. As Pokemon Go is always adding events, like the upcoming Sinnoh Tour, which sometimes switches up the Pokemon that hatch from Eggs, while also boosting the Shiny spawn rate. This comes with problems, however, leading to fans asking for changes. Pokemon Go players want to delete Eggs A user on TheSilphRoad Reddit created a thread asking for Niantic to allow players to delete Eggs. This would give players the chance to clear their selection in anticipation of a big event, or just remove Eggs with a pool of boring Pokemon. “I am quite sure they will never do that. Maybe, just maybe, they could consider an option where you would temporarily opt out receiving new eggs,” one player suggested, while another said, “Eggs are their gacha and 2nd most valuable game mechanic incomewise.” There’s a monetary reason for Niantic wanting to keep this mechanic, as pointed out by different users. “I would love to be able to delete eggs but I suspect Niantic will never give us that option,” one fan wrote, “They care more about their income through selling incubators than our convenience.” While it’s possible to earn Incubators through different tasks, it’s easier just to buy them from the in-game store. The fact that players cannot delete Eggs means that you have to slowly work your way through them to clear space, especially as the type of Eggs you receive are random. The monetization aspect of Pokemon Go’s Eggs means that the current mechanic isn’t likely to change. This means players will have to do a lot of messing around before events, or be willing to shell out cash to hasten the clearing of their current Egg storage.

Pokemon Go players roasts Niantic for “badly” designed infographic for Rising Shadows event – Dexerto
Pokemon Go players roasts Niantic for “badly” designed infographic for Rising Shadows event NianticPokemon Go players are roasting Niantic after a hilariously “horribly designed” infographic for the new Rising Shadow raids was posted on their Instagram. We are midway into Pokemon Go’s Season 10, and we have already seen a plethora of new raids and research tasks. And the newest event for the Rising Hero season, Shadow Raids, is finally live. For the very first time, the limited time event gives you the chance to catch tougher Shadow Pokemon. However, it seems Pokemon Go’s social media team was abit to quick to announce Shadow Raids, after they posted a questionably designed infographic on their Instagram page. In a now deleted Instagram post, the Pokemon Go instagram page uploaded an infographic for the new Shadow Raids event. However upon closer inspection, players spotted a couple of misplaced assets on the infographic. For some reason, there is a Galarian Ponyta and Mega Pinsir tacked onto the infographic. And if you do decide to actually observe it, there’s also a ton of small mistakes and poor design. A user in a Reddit thread decided to compile all of them. Such as the letter “i” missing for words which should contain it, same with the letter “t”. A regular Scraggu is listed as a “if you’re lucky” encounter despite being common, the phrase “if you’re lucky, you may encounter a shiny one!” is copy/pasted throughout the entire infographic, and the Pokeballs are badly cropped. As a user described it, “it looks like someone who tried to use Photoshop or Indesign and couldn’t figure out how to make things like the shiny icon snap to images and were like, ‘good enough’’”. With others just straight up roasting the devs callousness, “jesus Niantic really is a shambles of a company isn’t it?” another user wrote. As of now, the reposted version fixed up the grammatical errors and random Ponyta and Pinsir, however some of the other design issues still remain.

Pokemon Go players report major gender difference glitch – Dexerto
Pokemon Go players report major gender difference glitch The Pokemon CompanyPokemon Go players have discovered a strange glitch that causes Pokemon to switch genders in the transition from the overworld to the catching screen. When Pokemon Gold & Silver introduced gender to the Pokemon world, it opened the door for new kinds of evolutions, with Pokemon evolving based on whether they were male or female rather than through leveling up, trading, or using Evolution Stones. The tricky thing about Pokemon who evolve by gender is that the male-to-female ratio can be heavily skewed in one direction. One example is Combee, where only females can evolve into Vespiquen, yet they barely appear compared to their male counterparts. Luckily, male and female Pokemon can have visual differences, which means Pokemon Go players can tell them apart on the overworld. This is why it’s so surprising that tapping said Pokemon can lead to an unexpected result. Pokemon are randomly switching gender in Pokemon Go A user on the Pokemon Go Reddit has reported a glitch, as they encountered a female Combee on the overworld (as seen by the pink diamond on its head), but when the encounter started, it switched to the much less valuable male Combee. Other users quickly confirmed that they had also encountered the bug. “I’ve had this happen a few times! When I finally did catch a female, it was spawned as just the male on the map lol,” one user mentioned, and another said, “Lol I had the thought of ‘“’that’s fake’ then opened the app and had the exact same thing happen. Ohhh Niantic, you suck.” One user pointed out that is bug isn’t restricted to Combee: “This is a common error and it happens with other Pokemon all the time. Is not even a bug, is just a mistake with the 3d models on the map. It happens with Heracross and from time to time with Pikachu.” “You can’t expect something better from the company that forgot to activate the shiny option during events, even during community days and when Zapdos was released, they used the shiny 3d model instead of the regular one.” Pokemon Go is notorious for glitches like this, especially for people with poor Internet access on their phones, as the game can struggle to load assets properly. This means that the Pokemon you encounter might look a lot different when you finally get the chance to catch them.

Pokemon Go players praise trainer for seven years of Pokestop submissions – Dexerto
Pokemon Go players praise trainer for seven years of Pokestop submissions NianticPokemon Go players praised one trainer after showing impressive progress made over seven years to contribute more Pokestops to their local area. Those who play Pokemon Go know just how important Pokestops are to the game, as they are invaluable ways to get helpful resources like items, Pokemon Eggs, and wild Pokemon. Unfortunately, some players have little luck with local Pokestops—especially if they live in rural areas without major landmarks or dense populations of other people. This is why the Pokemon Go community praised one player after they showed off how they improved the local Pokestops around them over the course of seven years with patience and dedication. Pokemon Go player contributes nearby Pokestops for years A tweet from Twitter user AMindJoke gained traction among the community after they showed a comparison of their local area in 2016, when Pokemon Go was first released, compared to now in 2023. In 2016, the area featured a handful of Pokestops with some pretty substantial distance in between each. However, the 2023 images showed a much more populated area with tons of Pokestops close to one another and multiple Gyms. The Pokemon Go player captioned the tweet with “Dedication>Luck” which suggested they were responsible for submitting many of these Pokestops themselves, which they confirmed in the replies. For those who may not know, trainers can submit their own Pokestop locations for verification. If a submission is verified and excepted, it will be added to the game as an official Pokestop location. Other fans also chimed in with their Pokestop efforts, while others noted how their cities changed over time. “…Our city came to life during that part. [The] Pandemic ended all non-hardcore player activity, but now that we’re restarting everything, without those POIs, there wouldn’t be a reason to go out during CD, RD, etc.” Absolutely true. Sucks that we no longer can do that efficiently – our city came to life during that part. Pandemic ended all non-hardcore player activity but now that we’re restarting everything, without those POIs there wouldn’t be a reason to go out during CD, RD, etc. pic.twitter.com/7LOD7ZowNM — Peter (@riddle) January 15, 2023 While the Pokestop submission process can seem slow and tedious for some, it’s clear that many fans see it as a necessity to keep the game alive in their local areas.

Pokemon Go players outline what makes Shadow Lugia so hard to catch – Dexerto
Pokemon Go players outline what makes Shadow Lugia so hard to catch NianticThe Shadow Lugia raid is causing significant headaches for Pokemon Go players as they all bid to capture the variant Legendary Pokemon. The raid itself is a relatively short, timed event running from October 28-29. As a Five-star Shadow Raid, it presents a significant challenge, even to large and experienced teams of trainers. The challenge doesn’t end there. After defeating Shadow Lugia, players are presented with the opportunity to catch it, and this phase is proving to be one of the most challenging players have seen in the game to date. Now, players are taking to social media to report their failures and what makes finally securing the catch a near-impossible task. Shadow Lugia has the Pokemon community searching for a solution In a post on Reddit, one user shared a video capture of their attempt to catch the Legendary Pokemon after they beat the raid. In it, Shadow Lugia is locked into a perpetual backflip loop that only offers around a 0.5-second window for the Pokeball to land successfully. In addition to its spectacularly regular animation cycle, Shadow Lugia’s position on the screen is difficult to pin down, and the Pokemon’s movements in every direction of the axis only add to the difficulty. Some players have been successful in securing the onerous catch and offered tips on the correct timing to use, with one saying: “The best thing that worked for me is to wait for it to move from the top of the screen downwards instead of waiting for its attack animation to end. It pauses longer before attacking after it moves up or down on the screen, and its hitbox isn’t flying all over the place when it does.” Others suggested turning to a Nanab Berry over the more obvious choice of a Golden Razz Berry (which increases the chance of the Pokemon staying in the ball when hit.) One noted: “If it’s moving this much, you’d still have a higher chance of catching it if you actually hit it with a nanab versus missing every throw with a golden berry.” With a minimal amount of time left before the raid disappears, players don’t have long to secure their own Shadow Lugia. Though the tips above will undoubtedly help, it will still present a mammoth challenge to even the most well-prepared players.

Pokemon Go players mourn the loss of incredibly rare Galarian Legendary birds – Dexerto
Pokemon Go players mourn the loss of incredibly rare Galarian Legendary birds Game Freak / Pokemon CompanyEver since the release of the Daily Adventure Incense, players have been hunting the Galarian bird trio, but several users have shared their misfortune of missing out on some of the rarest Legendaries. Pokemon Go’s Daily Adventure Incense has been around for a short while and has been a hit with players. Every day, players get a free 15-minute incense that has a chance to spawn some rather rare Pokemon. Among this pool of Pokemon are the very rare Galarian Legendary birds: Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. There is a small chance that they will spawn via the incense, but encountering one is only half the battle. According to the TheSilphRoad subreddit, the birds have a 0.3% base catch rate and a 90% chance to feel if it breaks out. However, that doesn’t make it impossible to catch one, as shown by numerous players who have shared their successful catches across the internet. But there have been many users who found an even rarer variant of these Legendaries and shared their failed encounters with the rest of the world. Players mourn Low CP Galarian Bird One of the aspects of these encounters that makes them so interesting is their varied CP levels. Legendaries usually have a decently high CP level as they’re normally caught after raids, but players can find Galarian Birds with incredibly low power. This makes them usable in low-level Pokemon Go battle leagues, and can even make them easier to catch. But what’s more exciting is that this is the only way to get a legitimate level 1 Galarian Legendary bird, a prized Pokemon that any collector would love to add to their collection. And sadly, there have been several trainers who have encountered these incredibly rare low CP legends, but have failed to catch them. Users like illogicallyalex, fae_e, and SilencedRPG all shared their tragic encounters on the r/pokemongo subreddit. These posts were met with hundreds of comments mourning the loss of such a rare creature, and sharing tales of their own misfortune. “Well, my 42 CP Arcticuno ran after the first throw too. Doesn’t feel right,” user Sanxnas commented. A user by the name of Gylfie33 stated, “My 49 CP Moltres ran away as well… I really thought that was gonna be the one, it couldn’t have been any weaker. Oh well.” To which the OP replied, “I’m glad it wasn’t only me. It lessens the sting a tiny bit.”

Pokemon Go players losing hope over “pay-to-win” event trend – Dexerto
Pokemon Go players losing hope over “pay-to-win” event trend Niantic/PixabayPokemon Go players are losing hope in the game after Niantic released three pay-to-win events within the first three weeks of the Mythical Wishes season. With the launch of Pokemon Go’s Mythical Wishes season, fans were excited to check out what Niantic had in store for them. However, many began losing hope in the new season — as well as the game as a whole — as the company continues to announce pay-to-play events like the Keldeo Special Research tasks that Niantic recently sold for $7.99. Now, trainers have taken to the Pokemon Go subreddit to share their thoughts about the game. Pokemon Go players losing hope for future of game On December 13, a player on the Pokemon Go subreddit shared their thoughts about the recent pay-to-win events. “Three weeks of this new season, three Pay to Win -ticket events. Losing hope over here,” they said. The attached image shows the Keldeo Special Research, Hoenn Mega Raid Day, and Mega Glalie paid tickets. With over 2,200 upvotes, it’s clear that the community isn’t happy about the recent focus on paid events. “Seriously, we’ve had more paid event tickets this season than any others, and it’s only been 3 weeks,” one user replied. Another player said: “They probably saw that their revenue was down in comparison to last year (due to their own terrible updates of course) & decided to make some more paid events to make up some of the lost revenue.” A third user commented: “At least this time I have zero FOMO in doing it because what the hell are those benefits for the newest task? Also, I really don’t get why they hide so much research behind a paywall when any pay-to-win model shortens the result.” Niantic hasn’t responded to the recent distaste towards the pay-to-win trend, but it’ll be interesting to see their player numbers in the future as more users potentially decide to quit the game.

Pokemon Go players frustrated by “stupidly rare” Shadow Gible Team Rocket event drop – Dexerto
Pokemon Go players frustrated by “stupidly rare” Shadow Gible Team Rocket event drop NianticPokemon Go players are having trouble encountering Shadow Gible during the Team Rocket Takeover event. The new Team Rocket Takeover will run from June 21, 2023, at 12 AM local time to June 25, 2023, at 11:59 PM local time. This Pokemon Go event features another Team Rocket Special Research quest that leads to a battle with Giovanni and his Shadow Regirock partner. Additionally, the Team Rocket Takeover added Shiny Pancham and more Shadow Pokemon. The following Pokemon will appear for the first time in Shadow form: Alolan Geodude, Ledyba, Hitmontop, Glameow, and Gible. However, catching a Shadow Gible has not been an easy task for some players who’ve taken to social media to vent their frustrations. Pokemon Go players have had little success with finding Shadow Gible A Reddit user claimed they failed over 250 checks for Shadow Gible on The Silph Road subreddit. Nevertheless, the OP still praised the Team Rocket Takeover event. “Found a grand total of two dragon grunts thus far,” one user wrote. “Perhaps I haven’t been as active as I usually am over the last few days, but still. Dragon grunts have always been highly desired, and therefore, of course, rarest.” “Have walked way over 50k steps. Checked hundreds of grunt stops. Not a single dragon grunt,” another player claimed. One Pokemon Go user offered some statistics regarding the Shadow Gible probability. “This website has data on current Rocket lineups,” they said. “Turns out the Dragon one shows up at a rate of roughly 1 every 133 grunts.” Amid the Shadow Gible struggle, Pokemon Go players are reminded of the practically impossible feat of hatching Larvesta. Based on their findings, there was a less than one percent chance of hatching the Pokemon from Eggs. Are you a lucky enough player to own both a Larvesta and a Shadow Gible?

Pokemon Go players flame “trash” 7km eggs as big problem found – Dexerto
Pokemon Go players flame “trash” 7km eggs as big problem found NianticPokemon Go players are complaining that the 7km eggs are not worth hatching as they constantly contain the same species of Pokemon. Pokemon Eggs are an iconic aspect of the franchise and Pokemon Go itself. The eggs come in five different rarities and each has a chance at hatching a range of different Pokemon, some of which are rarer than others. However, in order to hatch these eggs players need to walk a certain number of kilometers that is determined by the rarity of the egg. Of course, this means hatching eggs can be a lot of work so players expect to be rewarded accordingly. Well, members of the community are complaining about the 7km eggs specifically, stating that they’re simply not worth doing in the current state. Does Pokemon Go have an egg problem? A Reddit thread posted to the pokemongo subreddit calling a part of the game’s current egg system “trash” has skyrocketed to the top of the page. At the time of writing, the thread has just under 4,000 upvotes and over 300 comments. The primary issue the thread raises is the drop rates of certain Pokemon from the 7km egg: “I want to open gifts everyday but I don’t want to waste an incubator just to get my 1000th Alolan Geodude.” This sentiment is mirrored by commenters in the thread who have stated they have given up hatching 7km eggs altogether, because of a lack of variety in the rewards. The author of the thread offers a solution, suggesting it “would be really nice to have those Alolan forms removed or at least the hatch rate dropped significantly.” Of course, Niantic could always buff the drop rates of the rarer Pokemon in the pool to increase players’ chances of receiving what they want. However, it is unlikely they’ll ever make this change as they want to ensure rare Pokemon are difficult to acquire. It’s obvious a section of the Pokemon Go community has a serious problem with the drop rates for certain eggs in-game. With so much time being dedicated to hatching these eggs, players want more of a reward than they’re currently receiving. Whether or not Niantic will make any changes on the back of this remains to be seen.

Pokemon Go players demand update to fix “tedious” Gifts feature – Dexerto
Pokemon Go players demand update to fix “tedious” Gifts feature NianticThe Pokemon Go fanbase wants to make the Gifts in the game a lot easier to manage with a quality of life update that can shave a ton of time off of the social feature. The game has a ton of data management to tend to every so often. There’s some things that are more annoying to check off than others, which may get in the way of quickly clearing tasks while trying to catch ‘mons on-the-go. Pokemon Go players have described the game’s Gifts system as “tedious” and are once again asking for some sort of feature update to make it run smoother. Niantic have been making some player-friendly features in recent weeks, so the devs may be willing to hear some pitches for similar updates. Pokemon Go Gifts update concept People on the Pokemon Go subreddit agreed that the game needs a way to consolidate the Gift function to a ‘Send all’ and ‘Claim all’ options when trying to open multiple packs. “I’m sure this idea has been spoken about before but I think that it should be brought up again,” one user noted. “For me sending and claiming gifts is a tedious task and I really want a convenient yet simple update to fix that.” Though the idea proved to be popular, there were those who said Niantic would hesitate to move on an idea like this since it could get people off the PoGo app quicker every day. Still, there’s something to be said for a feature that would let trainers get to the more pressing matters in the game like catching creatures or managing their Pokemon. The devs recently launched a way to open Gifts when players’ inventories were full, even though it came with the caveat that items in the pack would be forfeited in lieu of Stardust. With Pokemon Go receiving some quality of life updates, here’s hoping that more like them come soon.

Pokemon Go players demand Niantic release Kecleon to solve problem – Dexerto
Pokemon Go players demand Niantic release Kecleon to solve problem PokemonPokemon Go players often demand Nitantic add Kecleon to the mobile game, but now players are making a solid argument for why the chameleon Pokemon is a necessity. Kecleon, a Pokemon capable of turning itself invisible, has been a point of contention for Pokemon Go fans since Gen 3 made its mobile debut. And for some reason or another, Niantic has yet to add Kecleon to the game. It could be because the developers aren’t sure how to add it. In the mainline games, Kecleon is often an invisible roadblock that players have to reveal using a special item. But how could they translate that into Pokemon Go? Many players have joked that Kecleon has been in the game all along, you just can’t see it. Others have suggested that it could be added as an invisible Pokemon on the map players would just have to tap around until they find them. But now, a real issue has come to light that’s caused by the lack of Kecleon. Kecleon makes Pokemon Go complete In Pokemon Go, players can earn platinum medals as a way to signify they’ve completed a great feat. A number of these platinum medals are obtained by completing different regional Pokedex. This requires players to catch one of each Pokemon from a specific region. Sadly, of the 135 Pokemon introduced in Hoenn, only 134 can be found in Pokemon Go. Can you guess which one is missing? Brought to light by Reddit user twivel01, the absence of Kecleon makes completing the Hoenn dex impossible. In turn, this holds players back from completing other quests that require a certain number of platinum medals to be obtained. Optimistic players began to theorize when Kecleon would be released in Pokemon Go. They guessed it’d arrive during the Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn event in 2023. Others demanded Niantic address the Kecleon situation as one user commented, “Hoping they release Kecleon or just admit it will never happen and update the badge.” It would be a little confusing if Niantic chose not to add Kecleon to Pokemon Go at some point, but their silence on the matter is also unsettling. Kecleon could reveal itself in Pokemon Go next year, or maybe it really has been there all this time… invisible to the untrained eye.

Pokemon Go players convinced Showcase rewards are “getting worse” – Dexerto
Pokemon Go players convinced Showcase rewards are “getting worse” The Pokemon CompanyShowcases can be a lot of fun in Pokemon Go, but there are a handful of players who feel that the rewards have been getting steadily worse lately. There are plenty of fun things to take part in when playing Pokemon Go and Showcases are a pretty popular option. They give players a chance to show off their favorite Pokemon and pick up some neat rewards in the process. Speaking of rewards, though, some players in r/TheSilphRoad feel that the quality of the Showcase prizes have been going steadily downhill lately. Pokemon Go players frustrated with Showcase rewards debate Originally popping up in this post, a user took to Reddit to share their frustration with the state of Showcase rewards. They asked “Is it just me or are showcase rewards getting worse and worse”, and shared their experiences with their recent prizes. Predictably, there were mixed responses. Some players agreed with the original poster, with one replying, “I really don’t like the short showcases for this reason. Guess it’s nice for trying to grind the medal though”. Another frustrated player shared that they’d achieved first, second, and third place, but didn’t get anything they felt was worthwhile, saying,” I got a lure and a bunch of potions. What a rip.” Other players disagreed with the premise of the post, though, noting that Showcase rewards tend to correlate to the length of the Showcase. One player encouraged the original poster by saying, “Wait for a showcase that lasts like 3+ days, and you’ll notice higher rewards if you win”. Some players even pointed to RNG as the deciding factor, with a few sharing that they’d won some great prizes from recent Showcases. One person commented, “I got an incubator and a star piece yesterday so I think it just varies.” A few Pokemon Go players in the replies attempted to put a positive spin on the matter, saying that the shorter Showcases make it much easier to grind out medals.

Pokemon Go players concerned as Pokestops & Gyms disappear – Dexerto
Pokemon Go players concerned as Pokestops & Gyms disappear NianticPokemon Go players have spotted certain Pokestops and Gyms are disappearing from the game. There’s speculation among the community that Niantic is using the new AR Mapping tool to decide which ones get removed as well. Pokestops and Gyms are a fundamental aspect of Pokemon Go’s gameplay. So when they suddenly start disappearing from player’s local areas, there’s definitely a cause for concern. The removal of these features can leave players with a lot less to do and make it harder to collect resources. This has led to widespread speculation in the community surrounding the reasons for these mysterious disappearances. A lot of theories target the new AR Mapping tool introduced to the game in October. A thread posted to the Pokemon Go subreddit claiming that Pokestops and Gyms are disappearing has garnered over 12,000 upvotes and nearly 700 comments. The post says that Pokestops and Gyms are being randomly removed and urges players to stop using the AR mapping tool. It claims Niantic is using data from Field Research to remove “misplaced” or “fake” Pokestops and Gyms. “The AR Mapping tool that Niantic is trying to push you to use through Field Research is actively being utilized to remove Pokestops and Gyms… I just had a fair bit of gyms and stops removed from my area.” Dexerto reached out to Niantic for a statement on the issue and they have stated that the AR Mapping tool is in fact not used to remove Pokestops and Gyms. This has been confirmed on the Wayfarer Forums by a Niantic representative: “No, this is not the case at all… Wayspots can only be removed if we receive reports from players indicating that a given location no longer exists… once we receive these reports, we evaluate the data to ensure a POI removal is warranted.” This suggests that the removal of the specific Gyms and Pokestops highlighted in the thread were coincidental and had no relation to the AR Mapping tool. It’s great to see this speculation put to bed and Niantic providing a response to the community after widespread concern.

Pokemon Go players celebrate father’s memorial turned into PokeStop – Dexerto
Pokemon Go players celebrate father’s memorial turned into PokeStop The Pokemon CompanyA Pokemon Go fan has revealed that their father’s memorial throne has been turned into a PokeStop, giving players a wholesome reason to come and visit. In Pokemon Go, most PokeStops are assigned to famous locations or places where people will naturally gather, like stores or local landmarks. This means you’ll always have a chance to spin their disc for healing items & Poke Balls while you’re out playing the game. It’s also possible for players to nominate locations to be turned into PokeStops, which has its own process that can take weeks to complete, with Niantic able to refuse the request if it doesn’t meet their guidelines. This is how a certain horrifying Pikachu ride in Australia became a PokeStop. The process for nominating a PokeStop has its issues, with some fans complaining that the results don’t make sense, but there have been instances where people are pleased with the results, as heartwarming locations were chosen. Pokemon Go fan’s father’s memorial is a PokeStop A user on the Pokemon Go Reddit has shared pictures of their father’s memorial chair in Ireland’s Glencolmcille island, which is now a PokeStop. Fans quickly showed their adoration for the PokeStop, seeing it as a touching tribute. “Sorry for your loss. At least he will stay in Pokémon GO with us for the rest of time and for you a important memory of him,” one user wrote, while another said, “That’s so cool. Pin the hell outta that stop and may he forever rest in peace.” “I don’t know anybody involved in this post and I’m tearing up wtf this is so wholesome,” one user commented, while another wrote, “Cool memorial. It looks like where you go to save your progress in a video game and it glows magically when you touch it.” When asked about the throne, the OP of the thread explained, “Memento Mori indeed. He didn’t make it, but just before he got sick in 2014 they were preparing for a nationwide festival celebrating all the masonry and stone in Ireland and my dad taught a lot of the younger local men how to be masons and how to work the stone.” “Sadly he died before the festival but the men who he taught honoured him with this incredible throne, which has his name carved on the arms. Between the physical monument to his memory and finding out it’s in Pokémon Go, I’m reminded of what a lucky man I am to have called him dad. A real class act.” It’s unclear who nominated the spot for a PokeStop, but whoever did created an amazing tribute to an already incredible monument. The Pokemon Go community might be vitriolic sometimes, but they do band together when it comes to celebrating the lives of those who have passed.

Pokemon Go players call for Niantic to overhaul 10km hatches: “Stop putting junk in eggs” – Dexerto
Pokemon Go players call for Niantic to overhaul 10km hatches: “Stop putting junk in eggs” NianticPokemon Go players are voicing their displeasure with Niantic over the hatching pool for 10km eggs, calling the results “junk” in their current form. Pokemon Go players are a vocal bunch and they’re not afraid to speak up when they see something they deem unfair or irregular in their favorite game. In the past, they’ve mobilized around everything from “disappointing” designs to the price of tickets to the upcoming Hoenn Tour Las Vegas event, but now it’s the iconic egg-hatching system that is drawing their ire. Pokemon Go trainers plead with Niantic to “stop putting junk in eggs” Pokemon Go’s formula of real-world exploration and in-game micromanaging has cemented it firmly in its own lane in the gaming community at large and eggs play a huge part in what makes the ARG unique. While it’s supposed to function as a reward for players who take the time to explore, many of the trainers who dedicated their time to getting out in the world agree that the effort doesn’t match the prize. When one person took to the game’s subreddit to air their complaints, it didn’t take long for others to join in on their call for change. “Togedemaru in 10k eggs is pure Niantic trolling,” one player said of the 10km eggs, while another called the entire system “criminal.” “I quite literally only get Vullabys from 12k eggs… I wouldn’t want it if it was in a 2k,” a third chimed in. One trainer dug deeper into the problem and presented a potential solution that the Pokemon Go team could implement to alleviate the playerbase’s collective pain. “I wouldn’t mind trash eggs if there were more ways to get incubators without paying for them,” they started. “Incubators as weekly walking awards would be ideal… which is why we will never get them.” There’s no way to know for sure if their grim prophecy will hold up, but the pessimism is enough to make it clear that players are ready for a shakeup to the current system.

Pokemon Go player wants regional exclusive changes after “disappointing” Australia trip – Dexerto
Pokemon Go player wants regional exclusive changes after “disappointing” Australia trip The Pokemon CompanyA Pokemon Go fan has called for changes to the game’s regional exclusive mechanic after a “disappointing” month-long trip to Australia. Similar to how the mainline series has regional exclusive monsters, Pokemon Go introduced a real-world equivalent called regional exclusives. As the name would suggest, regional exclusive Pokemon only show up in certain regions of the world. For example, Farfetch’d only appears in Eastern Asia, Mr. Mime only appears in Europe, and Kangaskhan only appears in Australia. However, one Pokemon Go player has called for changes to the “forgotten” regional exclusive mechanic after they analyzed the results of a month-long trip to Australia. Pokemon Go fan wants revamp for regional exclusive mechanic A post on TheSilphRoad subreddit titled, “Regionals barely exist – analyzing my month in Australia,” critiqued the regional exclusive mechanic in an in-depth thread. The OP began the post by saying while some trainers simply think the mechanic is unfair, they want to discuss, “how as a mechanic that does exist in the game…they are increasingly disappointing and seem somewhat forgotten.” The trainer noted that during their 4-week trip, they caught 36 Kangaskhan, 46 Chatot, 10 Sawk, 13 Pansage, three Zangoose, three Heatmor, 11 Pa’u Oricorio, two East Sea Shellow, and zero Blue Flabebe. While this seems like a decent haul at face value, they explained their grievances. “Of these species that are inaccessible where I live, 6 have had their Shinies released, but I saw nowhere near enough to hope for a shiny encounter. This is partly because the regionals still vanish whenever an event is on.” The OP shared some ways to revamp the mechanic, like permaboosting regional Shiny rates, increasing regional spawns at airports, creating special incense or lures for regionals, or putting regionals in the 7km Egg pool. Many applauded the post and the concepts for improvement, like one trainer who said, “Man I love when people point out a real issue and bring real suggestions for how to fix. Great post OP.” Others agreed the regional exclusive feature needs some work. “I don’t like regionals. I think the idea is neat. Implementation is junk,” said one fan. While regional exclusives are an interesting idea for a location-based, augmented reality game, it may be time for Pokemon Go to revamp the mechanic.

Pokemon Go player allegedly threatened by gunman in church parking lot – Dexerto
Pokemon Go player allegedly threatened by gunman in church parking lot The Pokemon Company / NianticAn allegedly armed man threatened a Pokemon Go player playing the game in a church parking lot. Pokemon Go can result in dangerous situations, like getting arrested or hurt. Past examples include a player dealing drugs while catching Pokemon and seizing six guns from another trainer. Several users have also died playing the mobile game, like a father who was fatally shot while out with his six-year-old daughter. Pokemon Go even has a grim tracker to stay updated with deaths related to the application. This time, a Pokemon Go trainer fortunately escaped any harm but still experienced a terrifying situation. Pokemon Go player forced to leave church parking lot A Reddit user explained a “scary encounter” they had playing the game on the Pokemon Go subreddit. The OP was participating in a Gengar Raid in a church parking lot until a mysterious man approached them. “He said that he didn’t recognize me and said that he was armed, and would shoot me if I didn’t leave the property,” they wrote. The trainer revealed that the man wasn’t a police officer or a security guard. “I told him that I was simply playing a game on my phone and he did not care. Without wanting to make the situation worse, I left the parking lot,” the player continued. The authorities have since taken care of the situation and found the man. Another trainer discussed their experience while playing in a church parking lot. “As I was taking out the gym a cop pulls up along side of me asking if he can help,” the user said. “I say I am just playing Pokémon Go, and didn’t want to drive and play, so I parked. He replied, ‘As long as you aren’t broken down, Go Catch’em All.’” “Busybodies like that are such absolute clowns. Like literally get a life. Anyhow glad you’re safe op,” another person remarked. Always remember to be aware of your surroundings and stay safe while playing Pokemon Go. While you’re here, check out our Pokemon coverage to stay updated with the franchise as a whole.

Pokemon Go player reaches level 30 without catching Pokemon – Dexerto
Pokemon Go player reaches level 30 without catching Pokemon NianticA Pokemon Go player has seemingly done what no other player has done before, reach level 30 without catching more than one Pokemon. Pokemon Go is a drastically different experience than any other Pokemon game. Wild Pokemon spawns are dependent on your real-world location, Pokemon have Combat Power instead of levels, and players can earn experience to increase their own trainer level. A player’s trainer level is pretty important as it grants access to certain items and allows players to power up their Pokemon more. A trainer at level 20 can’t power up their Pokemon as much as they can at level 30. But increasing your trainer level can be an absolute grind as millions of experience points are needed for each level when you reach the upper levels. It can take months or even years for a new trainer to reach level 30 playing normally, but one player has astounded the community by reaching that benchmark with an absurd self-imposed ruleset. Trainer reaches level 30 without catching Pokemon Reddit user notAKawaiiCatGirl posted their accomplishment to the r/pokemongo subreddit. The post was captioned “Today I hit level 30, having only caught my starter and only adding friends I actually know IRL.” The post contained screenshots of them reaching level 30 and proof that they had only actually caught their starter. Their stats page also showed a start date of October 30, 2021. This means notAKawaiiCatGirl was able to reach level 30 without catching more than one wild Pokemon in a little less than 6 months. So, how did they accomplish this feat? According to OP, they gained every point of experience through Pokestops, gyms, eggs, gifts, and evolution. They were able to get new Pokemon with eggs, which is also how they were able to get candy to evolve them. In the replies to the post, they stated that trading was not allowed as it would cheapen the challenge. They also revealed they will continue the challenge until they reached level 40 which is a cap for a challenge like this.

Pokemon Go player killed as shooting takes life of innocent bystander – Dexerto
Pokemon Go player killed as shooting takes life of innocent bystander UnsplashA man is standing trial for murdering a woman in 2019 who was caught in the middle of an armed robbery with her boyfriend while playing Pokemon Go. Cayla Campos was killed in 2019 when she and her boyfriend were out one night playing Pokemon Go at a park in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The couple were in their car playing Pokemon Go when they drove up the park at the same time Izaiah Garcia was committing an armed robbery. Campos was then shot in her car and subsequently died from the shooting. Now in 2024, Garcia stands trial and is being charged with first-degree murder and other crimes in the 2019 shooting of 21-year-old Cayla Campos. This is not Garcia’s first offense. Previously, he was charged over the killing of a high school student three weeks after he killed Campos. Garcia was charged with a life sentence over the murder of the high school student but now also stands trial over the murder of Campos. Prosecutors allege Campos was an innocent bystander who was fatally shot by Garcia as she tried to drive away from the scene of a robbery at Bianchetti Park. Garcia’s co-defendant, Gabriel Marquez, told jurors that he had stolen a Louis Vuitton belt from the Mustang when Campos pulled up. Campos attempted to flee the scene by making a turn on Granite NE and speeding away, Marquez testified. “That’s when Izaiah started running after (the car),” Marquez said, before adding that Garcia repeatedly struck the rear window of Campos’ car with the barrel of an assault rifle. Prosecutors also claimed that Garcia’s intended target was 21-year-old Christian Mattock, a man who was believed to be a rival of Garcia’s. Marquez later testified that Garcia admitted he had killed Campos and that he knew that the victim was not Mattock. “That was when he told me that somebody passed away…He said it was a random person, and it wasn’t Christian.” As well as this, Garcia has also been accused of killing a fellow inmate, with footage from the incident revealing an altercation between the two while serving their sentences. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on this story as more developments are revealed in the coming weeks following the trial.

Pokemon Go player finds “Gigantamax” Cubchoo defending a Gym – Dexerto
Pokemon Go player finds “Gigantamax” Cubchoo defending a Gym NianticA Pokemon Go player has discovered an odd glitch that turns tiny Cubchoo into a terrifying behemoth. The glitch comes alongside many graphical errors happening in the mobile app. A Pokemon Go player has encountered another odd glitch while exploring Gyms and PokeStops in their area. The mobile app has provided fans with plenty of strange mixups and mishaps over the past few years, scrambling Pokemon textures, distorting Team Go Rocket Grunts, and offering unsettling model mashes that make certain species unrecognizable. While most of these glitches and bugs are harmless and can be reset by restarting the app, a few have taken Pokemon Go players by surprise. This has included a visual glitch that disturbed the appearances of team leaders after a clothing update in 2023. Now, a trainer has stumbled across a glitch that seems reminiscent of the Sword & Shield video games, with a Gym defender’s model blown up to epic proportions. Pokemon Go player prepares to challenge enormous Cubchoo In a Reddit post by HollyHeartSun, the player shares an image that many might need to take a moment to process. At first, Pokemon Go trainers can see the main Gym defenders standing ready to take on their opponent. However, with a second look, players can see the top of an enormous Cubchoo head popping up through the arena floor. Fans in the comments are just as startled, with one stating, “Dynamax Cubchoo” and another adding, “It’s HUGE!“ The player goes on to explain that a Cubchoo Raid was happening and the visual glitched. The Ice-type isn’t a defender for the Gym, just an unfortunate, supersized spawn with its head stuck in the stop. Despite the unsettling visual, bumping into such a surprise when preparing to challenge a Gym can offer a good laugh, and make for a funny memory to share with other Pokemon Go fans during events or Community Days.

Pokemon Go player discovers unreleased item in game’s first trailer – Dexerto
Pokemon Go player discovers unreleased item in game’s first trailer YouTube: NianticA Pokemon Go player has spotted an unreleased item in PoGo’s very first trailer, an item which has appeared in other legacy Pokemon titles. When Niantic adapted Pokemon into the augmented reality game fans now know and love, the devs needed to choose what items from Pokemon’s legacy titles to include in the game. In the game’s very first trailer, we see a few teasers for what the game would go on to deliver. From various monsters, raids, and trading. Included in that trailer are players using items, one of which never made an appearance. A player on the Pokemon Go subreddit posted a screenshot of the trailer, with a player questioning what one of the appeared items, honey, is. Here’s a rundown of the item and what it does in Pokemon lore. Honey first appeared in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl as an item you can use to attract wild Pokemon to capture. Once it was used on a tree, and after waiting for several real-world hours, it will eventually attract Pokemon which you can capture. Pokemon Go players wonder why honey was not added into the game As a player pointed out, “it was most likely some sort of early version of incense that was scraped” they said. And as other commenters also pointed out, it also takes over the function of lure modules as well. The item is still in the game’s code, but has had nothing done to it as of yet. A few players did propose that it would be an interesting mechanic if the game made you put honey on trees and attract Pokemon. However, since the eighth Generation, honey has become effectively useless in catching Pokemon. In Sword and Shield, honey had all its monster luring abilities removed, which made its only purpose to be sold for money.

Pokemon Go Mega Rayquaza: Best Moveset for PvP and Raids – Dexerto
Pokemon Go Mega Rayquaza: Best Moveset for PvP and Raids NianticHere’s a look at the best moveset for Mega Rayquaza in Pokemon Go, whether for PvP play or Raids. The Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Pokemon games introduced franchise fans to Mega Rayquaza, a truly dominant force in the console games. Mega Rayquaza is now available in Pokemon Go and is being featured during a makeup Raid event on August 3, 2024. But what exactly is the best moveset for Mega Rayquaza in Pokemon Go? Here’s a look. Pokemon Go Mega Rayquaza all moves Here’s a look at all the Fast and Charged Moves Mega Rayquaza can learn in Pokemon Go: Mega Rayquaza Fast Moves Dragon Tail (Dragon/STAB) – Air Slash (Flying/STAB) – Mega Rayquaza Charged Moves Aerial Ace (Dragon/STAB) – Ancient Power (Rock) – Outrage (Dragon/STAB) – Return (Normal) – Dragon Ascent (Flying/STAB) – Breaking Swipe (Dragon/STAB) – Hurricane (Flying/STAB) – Pokemon Go Mega Rayquaza best PvP moveset The best moveset for Mega Rayquaza in PvP of Pokemon Go is to use Dragon Tail as the Fast Move and Breaking Swipe and Dragon Ascent as Charged Moves. Mega Rayquaza can learn from two different Fast Moves. But out of those two, Dragon Tail is the clear power move. As for the Charged Moves, Dragon Ascent is one of, if not the, most powerful moves in all of Pokemon Go. Pairing it with Breaking Swipe, a Dragon-type move, gives it a balanced arsenal. However, be mindful that Mega Pokemon are not usable in PvP play unless otherwise specified during limited-time events. Thus, don’t expect to need to know what PvP moveset to use with Rayquaza unless in very special circumstances. Pokemon Go Mega Rayquaza best Raid moveset For Raids, the best moveset for Mega Rayquaza in Pokemon Go is Dragon Tail and Dragon Ascent. Per Pokemon Go Hub DB, this combination has the best score among potential combos. Pokemon Go Medals are a missed opportunity – Dexerto
Pokemon Go Medals are a missed opportunity NianticGetting a Medal or achievement in a Pokemon game should be exciting – so why does it feel like such a missed opportunity in Pokemon Go? Despite the recent controversy over the Pokemon Go avatars, there is a lot to love about the game. There are fun events, multiple ways to play, and plenty of Pokemon from fan-favorite generations to add to your collection. One element of Pokemon Go that could feel more exciting, though, is the Medal system. If you’ve played before, you will have seen these around—if you evolve 200 Pokemon, for example, you get a little Gold Scientist Medal with a funky design in the middle. Some Medals give players a boost to their catch bonus for specific Pokemon types and others unlock new items in the shop. Aside from a few special cases, you don’t automatically get the items, but you unlock the ability to spend coins on them. Other than that, there’s not much else to note about Medals in Pokemon Go. Some Medals take an incredible amount of effort to complete, like the Platinum Best Buddy Medal which requires 200 Best Buddy Pokemon, but they offer no reward for hitting this milestone. While having an exciting reward for every single Medal in the game would be overwhelming, it’s fair to say that Medals in Pokemon Go aren’t always worth the effort right now. Why should players chase the Platinum Best Buddy Medal? It offers nothing to their experience in the game. This topic popped up in a recent fan discussion, where players went over the various ways that Medals could be improved. Pokemon Go players generally agreed that some mMdals just weren’t worth the time of day. One suggestion that stood out is cosmetic titles – getting the Bug Catcher Medal should allow you to equip the title “Bug Catcher” and attach it to your character name. Other suggestions included boosted Shiny odds for type-specific Medals and interesting animations. It’s unclear whether we’ll ever see this change in the game but it would be a great way to incentivize players to chase those trickier achievements. The rewards wouldn’t need to be massive, either, just a little more meaningful than the standard Medal interface we have in the game right now. The Pokemon Go team is clearly willing to listen to community feedback about topics like this, so it’ll be interesting to see if Medals get altered at any point in the game’s future.

Pokemon GO is Still Making Millions of Dollars Per Day in Revenue – Dexerto
Pokemon GO is Still Making Millions of Dollars Per Day in Revenue Pokemon GO appears to still have an enormous hold on the mobile gaming market two years after its initial release after reports state that it brings in over $2 million a day. When it comes to worldwide gaming sensations, few titles had a grasp on the mainstream population like Pokemon GO did after its highly-anticipated release in July of 2016 which quickly became an industry titan. The game became popular among all walks of life due to its simplicity and easy-to-use user interface, allowing players of different backgrounds to get in on the action and attempt to climb the ranks. More: Data Miners Release Teaser of Major Changes Reportedly Coming to the Fortnite Map Including Desert Theme – However, after being at the top of the industry with such prominence, Pokemon GO seemingly fell off the radar for many as players eventually got tired with its repetitiveness – or so some thought. In a report by SensorTower on July 6th, two years after its launch, Pokemon GO is bringing in $2 million per day in player spending which may come as a surprise to many that believed the game had lost its touch. This enormous daily figure brings the title to over $1.8 billion in revenue since July of 2016 with the United States and Japan accounting for over 60% of spending across the globe. A breakdown of spending by country can be viewed below. With Niantic rolling out new features for Pokemon GO and the game still planning to have a launch in China in the future after partnering with NetEase, there is no telling how long the game can remain as a major-player across the mobile gaming industry. Pokemon Go Garbodor: Best moveset for PvP and Raids – Dexerto
Pokemon Go Garbodor: Best moveset for PvP and Raids NIANTICPlayers looking to use the waste-filled Garbodor in Pokemon Go’s PvP or Raid battles should be aware of its best movesets, so here’s the full list as well as the ultimate combinations to try out. Trubbish and its evolution, Garbodor, were introduced into the franchise in Pokemon Black & White, and first appeared in Pokemon Go with the release of Trade Evolutions in 2020. If you want to battle along the Poison-type Garbodor, you should take advantage of Trubbish’s Spotlight Hour or look for it inside 2 km Eggs or Research Tasks during the Sustainability Week event. Once you evolve it, here are the best movesets you should teach Garbodor. Contents Pokemon Go Garbodor all moves – Pokemon Go Garbodor best PvP moveset – Pokemon Go Garbodor best Raid moveset – Pokemon Go Garbodor all moves This garbage-lookalike Pokemon has a total of three Fast Moves and four Charged Moves in the game, leaving players with a decent set of combinations to try out. Garbodor Fast Moves Infestation (Bug) – Take Down (Normal) – Acid (Poison/STAB/Legacy) – Garbodor Charged Moves Seed Bomb (Grass) – Gunk Shot (Poison/STAB) – Body Slam (Normal) – Acid Spray (Poison/STAB) – Pokemon Go Garbodor best PvP moveset The best moveset players can teach Garbodor for PvP encounters consists of Infestation as a Fast Move and Body Slam as a Charged Move. Neither of Garbodor’s Fast Moves benefits from STAB, so go with Infestation, as it deals more damage than Take Down and has a faster charge. Even though Garbodor has two Poison-type Charged Moves, neither is good enough. Acid Spray might be cheap, but its damage is too poor, and Gunk Shot has outstanding damage, but it’s too expensive. Plus, both are too slow. Instead, go with Body Slam which is cheap, strong, and fast. It’s worth noting that you can use Gunk Shot as a secondary Charged Move to deal great damage or go with Seed Bomb for coverage. Pokemon Go Garbodor best Raid moveset Garbodor’s best moveset for Raid battles includes Infestation as a Fast Move and Gunk Shot as a Charged Move. As noted above, Infestation is the best Fast Move Garbodor has, so go with it. For the Charged Move, you can go with Gunk Shot to add extra damage to the already powerful move. For a more defensive approach, switch Gunk Shot for Seed Bomb as it has good coverage against Ground-type moves. Plus, as a 3-bar move, it’s more accessible. That’s all you need to know about Garbodor’s best movesets in Pokemon Go. Pokemon Go fans slam Niantic for removing Avatar pose after accidental release – Dexerto
Pokemon Go fans slam Niantic for removing Avatar pose after accidental release NianticPokemon Go fans have blasted developer Niantic for removing an Avatar pose from all accounts after it was accidentally released early. Pokemon Go has plenty of cosmetic options that players can use to customize their Avatar characters. Most of these cosmetic items, which include hats, shirts, hoodies, and even poses, can be purchased through the in-game store. However, some fans were surprised as they were treated to a free Avatar pose on February 8, 2024. Sadly, Niantic has now removed the pose from all accounts after it was accidentally released early and trainers are not happy. Pokemon Go fans furious over Avatar pose removal Several posts on social media platforms began to pop up on February 8, 2024, as some players noticed they were able to activate a new pose option for their Avatar, called the Pikachu PhD pose. Sadly, this free pose would not stick around long for those who activated it, as Niantic Support put out a statement on February 9, 2024. The official statement read: “Trainers, some upcoming exclusive avatar rewards were accidentally made available to all Trainers for a short time. These rewards are no longer available, and will be removed from Trainer accounts. Details on how to acquire them will be coming soon. Thanks for understanding.” Naturally, many fans were not happy to hear that the Avatar pose would be forcibly removed from their accounts, despite being the developer’s mistake. “Why don’t you let us have nice things when it is your mistake,” asked one trainer. Another said, “Yall really accidentally gave us it for free, then you’re going to take it away from us, then sell it right back to us later on.” This news comes shortly after Niantic apologized for the state of Pokemon Go on February 8, 2024, when many players claimed the mobile game was unplayable thanks to a myriad of bugs.

Pokemon Go fans predict certain cosmetic prices will rise after avatar update – Dexerto
Pokemon Go fans predict certain cosmetic prices will rise after avatar update NianticSome Pokemon Go fans have predicted that certain cosmetic prices will skyrocket following the controversial avatar update. Pokemon Go’s recent avatar update has not sat well with some fans, as many have argued that the new models look “horrific” and that certain body proportions look bizarre. Now, some fans have predicted that the price of certain types of cosmetics will skyrocket in the in-game store following this update. The cosmetic type in question being items that cover one’s face. A post on the Pokemon Go subreddit said, “Niantic playing 4D Chess: Mask sales will go through the roof as the Avatar Apocalypse spreads globally.” The OP included images of the Dusclops Headwrap, Giratina Helmet, Yamask Mask, and Cofagrigus Helmet. These cosmetic items all cover the majority of the avatar’s face, so trainers wouldn’t have to look at the updated player faces. Others in the comments shared alternate cosmetic combos that could be used to achieve the effect. “Got me that Solgaleo Mask so I dont gotta see the abomination that is my avatars face,” said one fan. Another trainer said, “I have always worn the Giant Pikachu Pumpkin Mask, and I will continue to do so.” For those interested, the Mega Rayquaza Hat, Nihilego Hat, and Rhi-Style Helmet with Goggles are other cosmetic options that completely cover the avatar’s face. Considering Niantic just rolled out the avatar update, it seems unlikely the developer will revert to the old models anytime soon. For now, Pokemon Go players will just have to try and make their avatars look as aesthetically pleasing as possible with the new system.

Pokemon Go fan shares “hilarious” real Pokemon – Dexerto
Pokemon Go fan shares “hilarious” real Pokemon Legendary Pictures/The Pokemon CompanyWhile plenty of people wish Pokemon was real, this Pokemon Go player shared a glimpse at the dream becoming reality as an animal posed for a photo. Many Pokemon players probably spent their childhood imagining what it would be like if Charizard came to life (well, I did at least), and it’s still probably the first thing many would wish for if they ever got their hands on a Genie’s lamp. However, one Pokemon Go player has shared a glimpse at a world where Pokemon and animals coexist, with an adorable Reddit post, and other players are loving it. Bird and Pokemon Go player meet for adorable picture As shared on Reddit by u/AdHealthy6848, a Pokemon Go player stops in the park, only for a small bird to hop on their hand, with enough time to snap a picture next to its very own digital doppelganger. While comments underneath the post suspect the bird to be an “immature male rose breasted grosbeak” quite a lot of the people commenting think this is surely a wild Pidgey come to life. The person playing Pokemon Go has managed to get the Pokedex entry for Pidgey up in time, even posing it next to the bird, sitting gently on their hand for the photo. One person comments, “damn, this AR s**t is tight” while another adds, “What are it’s IVs?” Whether it’s a Pokemon or not, fans love the photo, and it’s a touching reminder of the real animals that inspire the Pokemon the community continues to love.

Here are all the details trainers need to know for this upcoming event. Pokemon Go first introduced Elite Raids in 2022 with the Hoopa Unbound event. Developer Niantic has now announced a new Elite Raid event in 2024 featuring Enamorus’ Incarnate Forme, which was first introduced in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Pokemon Go Elite Raid launch proves Niantic isn’t listening to players – Dexerto
Pokemon Go Elite Raid launch proves Niantic isn’t listening to players Dexerto/NianticPokemon Go’s botched launch of Elite Raids proves that Niantic isn’t listening to players, and it’s laborious and tiring. Ever since Niantic launched Pokemon Go in 2016, the developers have shipped a wide variety of new features and events for trainers worldwide to enjoy. One of the most impactful features added to the game, Raid Battles, came a little over a year after launch and was set to bring trainers together with the goal of catching some of the most iconic Pokemon available in the game. While Pokemon Go has continued holding its position as one of the most popular mobile games – undoubtedly thanks to being tied to one of the biggest game franchises in the world – Niantic has shown that they do not listen to feedback from players whatsoever. As a long-time player of the game, I’m sick and tired of being ignored. Elite Raids ruined October Community Day for many On October 14, Niantic revealed their latest feature: Elite Raids. Set to provide a 24-hour window to catch Hoopa unbound, the eggs began showing up at Pokemon Go gyms just before the October Community Day on October 15. As the event held the spotlight on Litwick, one of the most sought-after requests for October CD thanks to its “spooky” design, four-star raids during the monthly event were set to hatch the first evolution of Litwick: Lampent. To make things even more fun for players, Lampent raids after the scheduled ending time were set to give players more Litwick spawns, effectively extending the Community Day by two more hours. But yet, Niantic managed to mess it up. Just hours before the sought-after spawns were set to begin, players began noticing that Elite Raid eggs were showing up at nearly every gym surrounding them — alongside the 24-hour timer, effectively taking the raid aspect away from the Litwick Community Day event. The developers were quick to respond with an apology, and delayed the beginning of the 24-hour Raid eggs until the end of the scheduled event, effectively telling those who planned on extending their adventure the extra two hours that they were out of luck. Issues plague Pokemon Go Elite Raid launch To add insult to injury, trainers worldwide were met with a wide variety of issues as soon as the Hoopa Unbound elite raids began hatching that nearly broke the game completely. Trainers (including myself, despite playing through the entire Community Day with no issue) quickly began having issues logging into the game, which you think would be bad enough until you hear that even if players could log in and join a raid party — the battle would freeze as soon as Hoopa was defeated, taking the ability to catch the ‘mon with it. If you were one of the few lucky players who were able to catch the legendary ‘mon, the promise of rare spawns surrounding the gym (Articuno, Wooloo, etc) just… didn’t happen. Niantic shows that they don’t listen to players While the launch of Elite Raids effectively ruined a highly popular Community Day just to plague users with a plethora of issues, it’s not the first decision from Niantic over the last 10 months that have players like myself wondering who’s in charge. It’s not even so much the fact that Niantic has continued haphazardly introducing new events into the game that has players perturbed, it’s the fact they continue to cut out features that they introduced during the global health crisis. The two biggest features, six-hour Community Days and Remote Raid Passes, became essential for many players worldwide as a way to access the game around their own schedules. As a rural player, it’s near impossible for me to gather enough players at the same time to defeat Five-Star and Elite Raids — assuming there’s even a raid available around us to try to defeat in person — and I know there are millions of Pokemon Go players out there that have the same issue. Elite Raids don’t allow you to use Remote Raid passes, meaning players like myself are entirely cut out from participating. When Community Day events were six hours long, I was able to take part in every single event without having to take away family time during the weekend which is something that I’m unable to do nowadays due to the shorter schedule. These are both features that trainers worldwide consistently ask to have back in the game and although Niantic said back in September that they would listen to trainers’ feedback more… it’s safe to say that they’re not listening at all.
