  • Apex Legends Ranked is “infested” with cheaters as ImperialHal calls it “pathetic” – Dexerto

Apex Legends Ranked is “infested” with cheaters as ImperialHal calls it “pathetic” Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players, including Philip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen, have hit out at the ‘infestation’ of cheaters that the Ranked side of the battle royale currently finds it under. Over the last few years, Apex Legends, like all other battle royales, has had to contend with its fair share of cheaters. This has included god mode cheats, wall hacks, and everything else in between – including some hackers getting skins for their accounts before they actually release. Respawn has, at different points, managed to shut down a large portion of these cheats but they continue to pop up. It’s just a constant game of whack-a-mole trying to keep them from taking over. However, there has been a massive scourge in recent weeks, especially when it comes to Ranked play now that you are able to play with any rank without restriction. This allows cheaters to keep popping up with new accounts. It’s something which has annoyed the likes of TSM star Philip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen. “The Ranked situation rn is completely infested with cheaters recently and it has been pathetic. At least a couple cheaters every single game just boosting players. Who thought the no rank cap 3 stack was a good idea???? And half my lobbies are also missing players? Some start even with only 3 teams like what the f**k is going on. Game is straight on fire rn,” the two-time ALGS MVP tweeted, sparking a wide range of support. “It’s so bad, ranked might be a lost cause NGL,” FaZe Clan’s Rigo ‘Gent’ Padilla replied. “Imagine being this many seasons in and people can still just create an account and hop into a pros ranked lobby within a few hours rage hacking,” EkkoOnApex added. Other players put blame on pros for wanting the recent Ranked changes, which were made in Season 20, to allow players of any rank to be paired together. “You all wanted this. Because you all cried that you can’t play with ur friends if they started late ranking,” one said. “Boy who cried wolf,” another commented.

  • Apex Legends Ranked exploit boosts players to Predator – Dexerto

Apex Legends Ranked exploit boosts players to Predator Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Ranked players have been found using a boosting exploit via the use of Med Kits to gain an average of 100+ LP per game as they surge up the ranks to Predator. Respawn Entertainment returned with fresh updates for Apex Legends Ranked when Season 18 launched on August 8. Various changes were made to tackle the problems that cropped up in the competitive mode of the game in Season 17, with pro player ImperialHal stating it is a “good step forward”. While Ranked matches aren’t for every Apex player, they are ideal for fans of the game who want to challenge and continually improve their skills in a competitive environment. The ultimate goal for competitors is to reach the highest rank of Predator, which there is only a very limited number of spots for and can take months if not years to achieve. In order to rank up, players earn Ladder Points(previously known as Ranked Points/RP) after every single Apex Ranked game, following high team placements and any bonus points achieved. During this season, Ranked players have been found to be exploiting the LP scoring system to boost their ranks via the use of healing in the game. Apex players are abusing Ranked boosting exploit After investigating the exploit, Apex content creators HisWattson and Jayami have outlined exactly how people are abusing the exploit to gain over 100 LP each game. “You can easily hit pred with this strat.” HisWattson said. It involves users collecting as many healing items as they can, such as Syringes and in particular Med Kits for stronger storms, and then constantly using them after they take damage to heal themselves while in the storm. Teams of three are making use of different Legend abilities, by using Cypto’s abilities to to make sure they don’t run into any enemies, Loba to help gather resources and as the others ultimately fall, Lifeline can still use her own healing abilities to last right till the end. Boosters can therefore secure top-tier placements without ever firing their guns and can earn easily over 100 LP per game. With a first-place placement earning you 150 LP and 100 for second, this compared with any bonus points achieved makes it no surprise that fans are rushing to Ranked to try it themselves. “Had this happen with a random fill on Day 1 of this season. My teammate and I thought we were getting trolled.” A commentor said. It will be interesting to see if and when Respawn introduces a hot fix for the exploit who at the time of writing has made no updates or announcements regarding this.

  • Apex Legends Ranked boosting exploit is giving Predators infinite RP – Dexerto

Apex Legends Ranked boosting exploit is giving Predators infinite RP Respawn EntertainmentA set of Apex Legends Predators have been caught using a Ranked boosting exploit to gain infinite RP and so far, Respawn hasn’t implemented a fix for the issue. While Ranked matches aren’t for every Apex player, they’re perfect for those looking for a competitive environment and a place to test their skills against opponents of a similar level. The ultimate goal for any Ranked competitor is Predator, the very top tier of the Apex ladder. However, with a limited amount of spots, not many players ever reach this rank, so hitting Pred is a huge achievement. Of course, climbing the ladder can take even the most skilled players multiple weeks and even months, so when a bunch of players in Predator started gaining max RP every single game, a lot of the community began to raise their eyebrows. It didn’t take long for players to realize that certain high-ranked Predators were abusing an exploit involving Respawn Beacons, and so far, there’s been no word on a fix from the devs. Apex Predators are abusing Ranked boosting exploit After doing some investigating on the exploit, Apex YouTuber kauzey outlined exactly how Predators are abusing the exploit to gain infinite RP. It involves two groups of separate Trios getting into the same game and arranging a meeting spot. Both squads then craft Respawn Beacons which are currently in the rotation to make with materials. Once enough beacons have been gathered, both teams will take turns killing each other and respawning their teammates. As RP is gained based on performance and how many kills a player has got in a match, they receive the maximum points every single game. Kauzey even showcases a clip in his video of a set of Predator squads piling up the beacons before they start abusing the exploit. While there are multiple possible solutions for this exploit, kauzey suggests removing the Respawn Beacons from the crafting rotation so players are limited on how many kills they can boost. Respawn has not addressed the Ranked boosting exploit or implemented a fix yet, so it’s difficult to say how many players are abusing this to gain RP. If this exploit isn’t fixed soon, it’ll be hard to know which players earned their rank fairly, as there’s currently no Ranked decay system in-game, something a lot of pros have been calling out for in recent months.

  • Apex Legends Ranked Arenas boosters banned, including top cheating Pred – Dexerto

Apex Legends Ranked Arenas boosters banned, including top cheating Pred Respawn EntertainmentRespawn has banned more than 1,000 Apex Legends boosters who abused the system to climb up the Ranked Arenas ranked. This includes the number one Predator on Xbox who admitted to cheating just before the ban wave. The Apex Legends teams keep their eyes on the ranked leaderboards constantly, wiping the slate with cheaters and exploit abusers when they’re uncovered. So when the number one Ranked Arenas player in the world was outed for cheating by boosting in the 3v3 gamemode, Respawn struck. The developers banned more than 1000 players on July 14, including “xiauh” on Xbox. The Level 2000 account boasted more than 16,000 AP at the time of their suspension. The overall total was 1307, including 392 players on PC, 375 on Xbox, and a whopping 520 on PlayStation. 20 players were banned for exploiting in Ranked Arenas on Nintendo Switch. Of these 1307, more than half of them were in Predator — 925 to be exact. Respawn calls the practice “6-manning” — essentially queuing up in three stacks at the same time to try and play against each other. Players would intentionally throw games to try and boost the ranks of the enemies who would then soar to the top of the leaderboard. Developer Conor ‘Hideouts’ Ford confirmed players were banned for at least two weeks, with the most serious offenders getting banned for life. This isn’t the end of Respawn’s quest to crack down on exploit abusers and cheaters in Apex Legends ranked though. Ban waves are common in the battle royale, but as long as you play fair you won’t be targeted.

  • Apex Legends Ranked Arenas: Placements, Maps, Leaver Penalties – Dexerto

Apex Legends Ranked Arenas: Placements, Maps, Leaver Penalties Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Ranked Arena is coming in the Season 10 Emergence update with everything from ladders, leavers penalties, the maps we’ll play on, and much more. Apex Legends’ Arenas is the newest permanent game mode that launched alongside the Legacy Update. Unlike the regular 60-player player battle royale game mode, Arena condenses the adrenaline-fueled action into smaller 3v3 battles. But now you’ll really be able to flex your skills in the mode, with the Ranked Arenas mode starting in Apex Legends Season 10. The Arenas ranked mode will be a completely separate ladder than the battle royale ranked mode with its own placements, splits, and more. Apex Legends Ranked Arenas Apex Legends Season 10 will introduce a new Ranked Arenas mode for players to start climbing on August 3. The mode will have traditional visible ranks like Bronze, Silver, Gold, up to Predator with an underlying MMR score system for proper matchmaking. Apex Legends Ranked Arenas placements Before getting your rank, Apex Legends players will have to play in 10 placement matches that will determine your starting MMR. Respawn noted that the first 10 matches could be rough, but will gradually ease up as you’re put into your rank. Determining your rank will come down to wins, with kills taking more of a back seat when trying to earn Arenas Points (AP). For the Ranked Arenas climb, wins will give more AP than losses. There is no demotion protection in Ranked Arenas. However, Respawn will still give you the rewards for whatever your highest tier reached was that season. The same party restrictions in Ranked BR apply in Ranked Arenas. At Platinum, you won’t be able to queue with someone more than 1 tier away. Bronze can team up with Golds, but Platinums won’t be able to queue with Silvers. Ranked Arenas Loss Forgiveness & Splits There are no splits in Ranked Arenas, unlike the Battle Royale mode. Respawn are going to keep the same ranked split for Arenas alive all season long. While this might change in future sessions, people will have all of Season 10 to work on their rank and get awarded at the end of the split. However, that means you’ll have a whole season to content with Leavers Penalties for people who insist on abandoning their teams mid-game. Penalties in ranked will include temporary matchmaking bans if a player continues to leave games. As for the Leaver’s teammates, they will be awarded Loss Forgiveness which will keep them from losing any AP and “at worst will earn 0 AP for that match.” Apex Legends Ranked Arenas maps The map rotation for Apex Legends Ranked Arenas will be the same as unranked throughout the split. While Party Crasher, Phase Runner, and Overflow will be in the rotation with one BR map. But the Emergence Season 10 update will add three new BR locations to the Arenas rotation. Those include: King’s Canyon – Hillside – World’s Edge – Dome – Olympus – Oasis – The maps in Ranked Arena will change once every hour as opposed to the 15-minute rotation in unranked. That’s everything you need to know about Ranked Arenas that will launch when Apex Legends Season 10 Emergence releases on August 3.

  • Apex Legends Rampart mains are loving Legend Challenge unlocks for one reason – Dexerto

Apex Legends Rampart mains are loving Legend Challenge unlocks for one reason Respawn EntertainmentWith Rampart now part of the Legend Unlock Challenge system in Season 20 of Apex Legends, players who main her are having a blast against new players. One of the new changes Apex Legends Season 20 made to the game was the Legend Challenge unlock system. Through this new feature, different Legends would slowly be unlocked for all players throughout the Season. Players could play these Legends and complete challenges over the season to fully unlock them going into Season 21. The most recent Legend Challenge unlock at the time of writing is the Controller Rampart and players who main her appear to be having a field day taking on new Rampart players. Rampart mains are having a blast in Apex Legends Season 20 A post on the Apex Legends subreddit sparked a discussion among Rampart mains after one fan made a post titled, “Rampart being free with the new challenges this week has awakened something in me.” The OP explained, “I am also a Rampart main since I started back in season 6. Seeing all these Ramparts has turned me into a complete goblin.” According to this Rampart main, seeing all these new Rampart players made them want to “assert [their] dominance over these newcomers” as a longtime fan. Other Rampart mains took to the comments to share their own funny stories after she was unlocked for all players in Season 20. “Rampart main here too, and there is nothing I like better than killing another imposter Rampart,” said one player, while another said,” Haha Sheila in the hands of new Rampart users are easy targets.” Some players found it amusing to see a resurgence in people choosing Rampart, considering she’s consistently among the least-picked Legends every season. It’s unclear just how long Rampart’s slight resurgence will last in Season 20, but it’s clear that experience Rampart mains are currently eating quite well in Apex Legends.

  • Apex Legends Rampart buff would make her unbeatable in early fights – Dexerto

Apex Legends Rampart buff would make her unbeatable in early fights Respawn/EAAn Apex Legends player has come up with an interesting buff concept for Rampart that would change her passive ability and immediately make her one of the best legends in the game. When Rampart was first introduced at the start of Apex Legends Season 6, many fans raised eyebrows at her abilities – especially the mounted machine gun, Sheila, as it was something the game hadn’t seen before. After her initial burst in popularity, the defensive legend has slowly slipped down the popularity standings. You’ll still see her in matches, of course, but she isn’t as well used as she previously was. That comes, in part, to the tweaks made to other leagues with the Season 7 update. Rampart wasn’t buffed as much as, say, Loba was and fans would like to see her given a boost – with some coming up with their own, interesting, concepts for a buff. The new idea of which comes from Reddit user Fetzenschaedl, who instead of changing of Ultimate or Tactical, instead focused on the character’s passive. In Fetzenschaedl’s idea for a buff, Rampart’s passive would go one of two ways. Firstly, she could extend her additional ammo carrying capacity to other types rather than just focusing on LMGs and Heavy ammo. However, in the other part – and this is where it gets really interesting – the Redditor suggests that Rampart could be able to pick up a weapon that uses a hop-up, and have a hop-up attached right away. Say you drop in and pick up a Wingman right away, it would have either Skullpiercing Rounds or Quickdraw attachment right away. The latter might seem incredibly powerful, but in terms of Rampart’s character, it does make sense. She is all about upgrading and modifying weapons, after all. Yet, it might be a little too powerful for Respawn’s liking, especially as it’d make Rampart a supremely powerful early game character. So, we’ll just have to wait and see as to what changes they cook up themselves.

  • Respawn disables Apex Legends’ Rampage & Sentinel to fix charge exploit – Dexerto

Respawn disables Apex Legends’ Rampage & Sentinel to fix charge exploit Respawn EntertainmentRespawn has once again disabled Apex Legends’ Rampage LMG and Sentinel weapons to fix an “infinite charge” exploit after the glitch continues to dominate ranked games despite a fix just weeks ago. The Rampage LMG and Sentinel have been dominating Apex Legends lobbies since a glitch giving the guns infinite charge was uncovered late in 2021. A fix was originally shipped in December, but players soon found another workaround. As the glitch continues to spread like wildfire, Respawn have been forced to take drastic action to stop it. The developers have disabled the two weapons in all Apex Legends game modes as of January 5 to work on another fix. “We’ve just pushed out [an Apex Legends] update temporarily disabling the Rampage and Sentinel weapons in all modes due to an exploit,” they said on Twitter. While Respawn works on a fix, players will not be able to loot up the Rampage or Sentinel across any of the battle royale maps, or purchase them in Arenas. • Apex Legends player builds R-301 replica that actually fires – Dexerto

Apex Legends player builds R-301 replica that actually fires Banished_BuildsApex Legends fan and YouTuber Banished_Builds crafted an R-301 replica out of a .22 and it actually fires. The R-301 carbine has been an Apex Legends staple since day one, serving as the go-to rifle for many players. YouTuber Banished_Builds loves the in-game rifle so much that he decided to recreate it in real life. It’s not the content creator’s first rodeo with bringing Apex Legends weapons to life, though. In the past, he’s also designed an Airsoft version of the Sentinel Sniper Rifle and Caustic’s Gas Grenade. The YouTuber’s latest Apex Legends-inspired build is bound to turn a few more heads. Apex Legends fan builds functional R-301 replica In a new video, Banished_Builds walks viewers through how he turned a cheap .22 rifle into a carbine straight out of Apex Legends. The YouTuber first designed and 3D-printed 40-plus parts for the R-301 replica, then disassembled the regular gun. Because the body couldn’t be printed in one single piece, Banished_Builds soldered the parts together before moving on to the painting process. After painting and assembling the gun, the R-301 replica was ready to be loaded with .22 bullets. And at the very end of the video, the YouTuber proved that his efforts did indeed pay off. The Apex-inspired rifle seemed to fire without issue, as seen in the video below around the 9:50 mark. Apex Legends fans may want to check out a few of the YouTuber’s other videos. In addition to the aforementioned sniper rifle and gas grenade, he’s also crafted a RE-45 out of an AAP-01 Airsoft pistol. It would seem that some of Apex Legends’ firearms just so happen to make for interesting prop guns.

  • Apex Legends players want a break from Season 14’s “quippy” voice lines – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want a break from Season 14’s “quippy” voice lines Electronic ArtsApex Legends players have already grown tired of the “extra quippy” voice lines from Vantage and other heroes in Season 14. Quips and other mid-battle comments from Apex Legends characters have become a normal occurrence in the game. More than anything, the voice lines help convey each character’s unique personality. As such, Respawn wrote different lines for different situations, including dire circumstances. But not all players are on board for the number of times certain Legends choose to get quippy during combat encounters. And they’re beginning to make their frustrations known. Apex Legends fans want Season 14’s voice lines dialed down Redditor _Stir_Fry recently started a thread criticizing how often characters yell out quippy lines of dialogue. The Reddit user specifically calls attention to Vantage in this regard because of “her constant voice spam after hitting shots with [her Ultimate].” This problem isn’t exclusive to the newly added sharpshooter, however. The player said they’ve noticed a “trend” with newer heroes, “where they have an extra quippy voice line after a normal one.” While Respawn shouldn’t do away with the voice lines, _Stir_Fry would at least like the option to turn them off, especially since Apex Legends has long suffered from audio issues. The Reddit thread is, of course, replete with players reciting some of their favorite and least favorite one-liners. But most seem to agree that Apex Legends would benefit from better-balanced battle commentary. Redditor Strificus probably said it best, “I wish that you had options to disable flavor audio and still allow for useful voice lines. There needs to be more granular settings.” Whether or not the crew at Respawn will ever apply such criticism to the experience presently remains to be seen. Apex faithful probably shouldn’t hold their breaths, though, since the game is still beset with audio hiccups.

  • Apex Legends Quickdraw hop-up makes Wingman the best again – Dexerto

Apex Legends Quickdraw hop-up makes Wingman the best again Respawn EntertainmentOne of the most beloved guns in Apex Legends, the Wingman pistol, appears to be making its highly anticipated return to the meta thanks to Season 7: Ascension’s Quickdraw hop-up. [jwplayer UQowmNq2] The seventh season of Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale, Apex Legends, is hitting public servers today, on November 4 at 8 p.m. PT / 11 p.m. ET / 4 a.m. BST, after a period of play restricted to content creators. That means it’s finally time for the Apex community to check out the new map Olympus, the first vehicle called Trident, and the 15th Legend named Horizon. But, for those with the itchiest of trigger fingers, a variety of weapon balancing changes will be most intriguing. Chief among the list: the Wingman’s Quickdraw Holster hop-up. According to the patch notes and surrounding commentary, this new lootable item buffs the destructive Wingman by increasing its hipfire accuracy, making it faster to swap to and from, and quickens its ADS. In sum, these changes hasten the gun’s big punches and turn it into a speedier complementary weapon. YouTube’s ‘Dazs’ was one such content creator who got to try out the Season 7: Ascension update before the masses. One aspect they paid notable attention to was the Wingman and its potential impact with the Quickdraw Holster attached. “What this is, and what it does, is it makes your Wingman a more viable [weapon] … You cut down on time from switching to the Wingman then to the overall animation to aim down sights, solidifying this hop-up as making your Wingman a ‘clean up’ weapon.” As Dazs explains, the Skullpiercer hop-up is inherently preferable to the Quickdraw if you’re running the hefty pistol as your main gun. But, while that will always be viable and solely depends on your ability to actually hit shots, the new attachment makes the gun way more versatile. With the example of the beloved R-99 and Wingman meta, Dazs suggests that the Wingman can now be used to finish fights off instead of simply initiating them with big shots that decimate enemy health bars. The gun still packs a considerable punch, with about 50 damage per bullet to the body, but the Quickdraw amplifies your ability to throw those punches with increased mobility. As such, one could chip away shields with an automatic weapon or sniper before rushing around with a speedy Wingman to finish those opponents off. Of course, the Mastiff is still king in the clean-up department, but this throws an interesting wrench into Season 7’s prospective meta.

  • Apex Legends quest may have just confirmed Titanfall 2 character return – Dexerto

Apex Legends quest may have just confirmed Titanfall 2 character return Reddit: TheShadyColombian / Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer dGieJhaz]Turn back if you don’t want Apex Legends Broken Ghost quest spoilers — we’ll be talking about the ‘Return to Skull Town’ hunt reward, and what it could mean for a certain Titanfall 2 character possibly coming to Respawn’s battle royale. So, has everyone that hasn’t played this week’s quest hunt ducked out? Yes? Okay, let’s get into it — Titanfall 2 simulacrum Ash has just been referenced again in Apex Legends, and this time it’s a real doozy. This isn’t the Vinson Dynamics creation that has appeared in the battle royale — leaks in March this year already revealed Ash is set to become a weapon bauble soon — but it is the first time it’s been a planned reveal. This time around, Respawn meant to unveil this particular tidbit, which comes at the end of the ‘Return to Ghost Town’ Broken Ghost hunt. Each week Apex Legends players have been rewarded with a small artifact for completing each quest. Titanfall 2 villain teased in Broken Ghost quest Week 7’s was a robotic head, which may be the centerpiece for the ‘Broken Ghost’ we seem to be building. The real kicker is in the helmet’s detail though: Apex data miner Shrugtal pointed out a single, faded word on the side: “Ash.” Now, the head itself doesn’t really look like Ash’s did in the Titanfall 2 campaign, even putting aside the fact the last time we saw her in-universe was when Cooper and BT killed the villain during a showdown at the World Foundry. It doesn’t seem likely Respawn would simply slap “Ash” on the side of an artifact not at all related to the Titanfall 2 character and call it a day. The Apex Legends devs love to weave story and narrative into their battle royale world. That means this reveal is planned; it could even point to what we’re building at the end of the questline — Ash herself. Considering she was destroyed 30 years before Apex Legends began (in-universe, that is) she may be in need of a few repairs. The timeline also makes sense. The pieces we’ve been digging up throughout the Broken Ghost quest have been called “artifacts”. If Ash has been rotting beneath Kings Canyon for the past 30 years, it would be fair to call her an ‘artifact.’ This certainly lines up with another leak that data miner Biast12 unveiled last week. He found a near-full model version of Ash in the Apex code, suggesting we may see the simulacrum in all her glory in-game before season’s end. Does this mean Ash is the Season 6 Legend? Unfortunately, just because Ash looks to be getting teased rather heavily doesn’t exactly mean she is a lock for the Season 6 legend slot. Kuben Blisk, who she served in the Apex Predators in Titanfall, is a frontrunner for that honor. Blisk served as a primary antagonist in both Titanfall titles. After he was left alive by Cooper at the end of the sequel’s campaign, he founded the Apex Games — Apex’s in-game name for the battle royale — and leads The Syndicate. Another option for the Season 6 character slot is Rampart, who has had teasers pop up left and right recently. Just last week, a Spitfire hop-up branded with his signature ‘R’ was found in the code, suggesting he may be up next release-wise. At this stage, however, the next Legend is anyone’s guess. Another potential debutant, Valk, was recently renamed to “Nova” in the code, and had her Legend icon added. It could even be Ash herself, considering all the teasers. All this Ash talk points in one direction too; it’s the perfect time to play Titanfall 2 again. It’s just arrived on Steam and is currently on sale, so make sure you scoop it up, give it a whirl, and find out just why Ash arriving is so dang hype!

  • Apex Legends quest reveals first Season 6 teaser with Titanfall 2’s Ash – Dexerto

Apex Legends quest reveals first Season 6 teaser with Titanfall 2’s Ash Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer cgdaanpd]This is the final reveal that Apex Legends players have been working toward throughout the Broken Ghost quest line, and what it could mean for the next chapter of the story in Season 6. Respawn’s new PvE missions started with a bang and ended by revealing the Titanfall 2 simulacrum, Ash. Although she’s not expected to be a playable character, she could have a heavy presence on the Apex Games in the coming season. Not only have the missions been a welcomed gameplay experience outside of the normal battle royale, but it’s also been a rewarding way for Respawn to explore the ever-expanding lore inside their universe. (Broken Quest spoilers below) How to complete Enemy of my Enemy / Ashes to Ashes This one plays out a bit differently, but the whole process is straightforward. You’ll have to absorb five totems before having to dig up the hidden artifact. Once retrieving it, you’ll have to escape with it in tow and onto the low-hanging ship to evacuate from the map filled with Predators. After that, the Ashes to Ashes sequence is simply a way for the player to navigate through The Lost Tomb to eventually fit the last piece of the puzzle and reactivate Ash. Ash in Season 6 After collecting the final of the nine artifacts, the completed simulacrum comes to life while giving a brief remark ending with the line: “The path ends here. Welcome to Olympus.” While leaks for the game have pointed to the Titanfall 2 character’s existence in Apex, how she’ll play into the actual Games remains to be seen. What is Olympus? What we do have to go off of is ‘Olympus,’ a location on the planet Psamathe, homeworld to Lifeline and Octane. In the epilogue of the quest, Octane and Lifeline discuss what Ash could have meant, and are scared about returning to their home planet for the Apex Games. Kings Canyon was the primary location for the Apex Games in Season 1 and 2. In Season 3, we were introduced to World’s Edge, and it evolved in the next seasons after it. By this trend, it’s very possible that the Legends will find themselves on a new battlefront in Season 6. We got our first proper look at Psamathe in Loba’s ‘Legacy of a Thief’ trailer. It’s an urban environment, which appears to be a city in the sky, as shown by this art by an artist who worked with Respawn for Loba’s trailer. As for Ash, since she’s all but broken down in her in-game appearance and there’s no evidence to suggest she’ll be playable, she could be a central figure in the Arena or for the next batch of quest missions in the new chapter. Now that the dynamic between Loba and Revenant has seemingly changed for the time being, Ash could be a key player in the next part of the hunt for the Synthetic Nightmare’s source code. We know that Revenant’s head has already been transferred to Production Facility 819 on Psamathe, so it would be the next natural point of emphasis for us to go in the story.

  • Apex Legends Quest leak reveals what players are hunting for in Season 5 – Dexerto

Apex Legends Quest leak reveals what players are hunting for in Season 5 Respawn EntertainmentThe new Quests in Apex Legends Season 5 is now properly underway, as players have been looking for their first artifact for the Broken Ghost. As expected though, data miners have gone ahead of the program and leaked what’s in store. Spoiler Warning: If you don’t want to have the story of the Season 5 Quest spoiled, you may want to avoid reading on. While the entire Quest isn’t leaked, it may ruin some of your excitement about what’s to come. Some players have been keen to avoid seeing spoilers for the Quest, to keep the suspense going all season long. Although it will be difficult to avoid totally once players start finding more and more. As the name ‘Broken Ghost’ teased, a lot of Apex Legends players who also played Titanfall expected this to have something to do with Ash, the Simulacrum from the Titanfall series. We’ve already had indications that Ash would be coming to Apex Legends in some way, after leakers found weapon charms for every Legend, as well as one for Ash (despite her not being a Legend in the game at all). Data miner Biast12 has uncovered that the artifacts players are finding each week are part of a model for Ash. He explains that the parts make up the head, with the file named ‘ash_head_1’. #QuestLeak THIS IS A LEAK FOR QUEST! it’s finally done, so the “”artifact”” we got was a part of this modele, this is the head we are building, and that is the head that use the textures called “”ash_head_1″” = Ash’s head, we are building Ash baby!! pic.twitter.com/31OMzzbS7K — Biast12 (@Biast12) May 20, 2020 Who is Ash? Just like Revenant, Ash is a simulacrum. She was a member of the Apex Predators, the unit run by Kuben Blisk. For Apex fans, you may know Blisk as the founder of the Apex Games. Some are speculating that Ash could be added as a Legend, perhaps to help Loba take on Revenant in the story of the game. However, Ash has never been found as one of the leaked Legends in the game files (unlike characters like Blisk, Rampart and Valk.) Really, we don’t know what it means or what role Ash might play in the story of Apex Legends. As Season 5 unfolds and players get deeper into the Broken Ghost Quest, we should understand more. We’re expecting either Rampart or Blisk to be the new Legend for Season 6, though this is still purely speculation at this stage. It wasn’t that long ago that Respawn pulled a fast one on everyone, revealing Forge as the Season 4 Legend, before having Revenant murder him and take his place. Who knows what they have planned next.

  • Apex Legends’ entire QA testing team gets laid off over Zoom – Dexerto

Apex Legends’ entire QA testing team gets laid off over Zoom Electronic ArtsAccording to reports, Electronic Arts has laid off hundreds of Apex Legends QA testers from a Baton Rouge-based office. Unfortunately, rampant layoffs have swept the industry for the last couple of months. League of Legends developer Riot Games let go of more than 40 employees earlier this year, for example. In January, Microsoft cut 10,000 jobs across various divisions, with some of those headcount reductions impacting gaming verticals like 343 Industries, Bethesda Softworks, and The Coalition. Analysts posit the layoffs constitute an act of public companies adjusting course following years of aggressive expansion. Sadly, it looks like layoffs have hit yet another team. EA reportedly lays off 200 Apex Legends QA testers Kotaku reported earlier today that EA terminated 200-plus quality assurance testers at a Baton Rouge studio during an emergency Zoom call. Insider Gaming corroborated the details with sources of its own, which confirmed the entire Baton Rouge QA crew had been laid off. Apparently, not even studio management knew what to expect upon receiving an email that read, “SITE CLOSED – Please join Zoom Meeting at 8 am CST.” The meeting that followed resulted in former Battlefield 2042 testers, who’d since moved on to Apex Legends, suddenly losing their jobs. Without specifying the number of affected staff members, EA spokesperson Lisa Campbell (via WAFB) noted the publisher would no longer conduct testing at the Baton Rouge firm. Campbell added, “as part of our ongoing global strategy, we are expanding the distribution of our Apex Legends testing team and ending testing execution that’s been concentrated in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.” Turning Apex Legends’ QA efforts into a global operation will allow EA to increase the hours per week dedicated to testing and optimizing the live-service experience.

  • Apex Legends putting Legend buffs & nerfs on hold before ALGS Champs – Dexerto

Apex Legends putting Legend buffs & nerfs on hold before ALGS Champs Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends dev has suggested that there will not be any major buffs & nerfs to characters before ALGS Championships to prevent the meta from changing too much ahead of the event. With Apex Legends’ roster expanding to a total of 21 characters in Season 13, balancing everyone’s set of abilities is becoming harder and harder for Respawn. As a result, the devs are extremely cautious when implementing buffs & nerfs to any of the Legends. Although the community has called on Respawn to rework Lifeline, nerf Gibraltar, and more recently, nerf Valkyrie, there have been very few changes in response. Well, a dev may have revealed why there have been so few meta-defining changes recently, and it seems to be linked to the upcoming ALGS Championship. Major buffs & nerfs postponed until after ALGS Champs During a Twitter discussion on May 9 about the power of Valkyrie and potential ways to nerf her, Live Balance Designer John ‘JayBiebs’ Larson revealed that the team had been considering removing Valk from the Recon category. This would disable Valk’s ability to scout the next ring and use her Ultimate to immediately place her squad in a powerful position. After considering the idea, JayBiebs revealed that the devs were worried it would result in teams being forced to pick another Recon Legend like Bloodhound or Seer instead. However, he also shared that they didn’t want to “rock the boat” before the ALGS Champs with all the teams practicing for the current meta. Toyed with this for a bit, but ultimately thought it could force the third pick to be a recon where we’d actually have LESS legend diversity (i.e. Valk + Gibby + BH/Crypto/Seer). Also didn’t want to rock the boat too much before Champs with teams practicing with a specific meta — JayBiebs (@RSPN_JayBiebs) May 9, 2022 While it makes sense that Respawn wouldn’t want to completely shift the meta before a major esports event, it indicates a lot of changes the devs consider making are influenced by the pro scene. With ALGS Championships 2022 occurring in July, it’s safe to say that the community shouldn’t expect any significant buffs or nerfs to arrive before the competition. Although this will be disappointing for a lot of players, Respawn cannot afford to make significant changes to Legends when pros are practicing for the biggest event of the year.

  • Apex Legends punishments coming for “dashboarding” in Ranked Play – Dexerto

Apex Legends punishments coming for “dashboarding” in Ranked Play Apex Legends‘ Senior Systems Designer Eric ‘Ghost’ Hewitt has confirmed that the development team will be handing out widespread punishments to those who have been abusing a glitch in Ranked Play that lets them leave games without facing matchmaking penalties. Ranked Play is a way to test your skills against opponents of a similar skill level, with your performance earning a rank which can vary from bronze all the way up the to the top level – which is known as Apex Predator. Winning matches or placing highly can earn points towards improving your rank, while getting eliminated early sees them taken away from you. Abandoning games early offer the biggest punishments, though, as not only will you lose Ranked Play points, but you’ll be hit with a matchmaking penalty that will stop you from joining matches for a length of time dictated by your past. Unfortunately, some Apex Legends players have found that while quitting from the in-game menu causes these penalties, closing the entire game and starting it again negates these punishments. This practice is known as ‘dashboarding,’ and means that should players join a Ranked Play lobby that looks difficult, or if they find themselves with teammates who they don’t want to play with, they are able to abandon the game with no consequences. The loophole looks set to be closed in the near future. When asked by a player about ways to report those who dashboard the game, Hewitt confirmed that there was “no need to report it manually,” as the development team can see it on their end. The Senior Systems Designer ended the tweet with a warning to those who have been using the trick too, writing: “Judgement Day will be coming.” hey, no need to report it manually, we can see it on our end. Judgment Day will be coming 🙂 — Eric Hewitt / Ghost (@GH057ayame) January 7, 2020 On top of the upcoming wave of penalties, Hewitt also confirmed that the Respawn Entertainment team are working on a system that will hand out “immediate punishment” in the future, explaining that they needed to get “everything lined up appropriately.” He concluded: “We care deeply about the ranked experience, so things will be handled soon.” there will be more immediate punishment in the future, just have to get everything lined up appropriately. We care deeply about the ranked experience, so things will be handled soon — Eric Hewitt / Ghost (@GH057ayame) January 7, 2020 What punishments “Judgement Day” will entail remains unknown, but it seems Respawn are aware of those who have been abusing the system and will be handing out retrospective penalties. There’s currently no confirmed date for when these will be issued to players, or for when the system that immediately punishes those who dashboard the game will go live in Apex Legends.

  • Apex Legends punch-boosts tricks are getting out of control – Dexerto

Apex Legends punch-boosts tricks are getting out of control Respawn EntertainmentThe latest movement trick in Apex Legends is already getting out of control, with players combining the ‘punch-boost’ with everything from Gravity Cannons to bizarre water physics. This has unlocked new ways for players to rapidly rotate across extended chunks of land and even through bodies of water like never before. As more people learn how to punch-boost in Apex Legends, it’s quickly becoming players’ new favorite move. People going up against someone using the punch-boost to evade a fight, however, might not like the technique seeing how effective it is to bail from a bad situation. A few examples show how players have adapted the move to get huge amounts of speed in no time at all just a few weeks after discovering it. Apex Legends punch-boost tricks People like ‘DRweidoYT’ found that Storm Point’s Gravity Cannons are a perfect way to boost the momentum they give by a lot. By using a cannon, they managed to tap-strafe in a way that redirected their momentum and propelled them down the nearby slope. If they were getting chased by an enemy squad, then this would have created plenty of distance and misdirection needed to get out unscathed. Punch-boosting gets even wilder when using the move over a body of water. Generally speaking, running with your weapon holstered is the fastest way to travel by foot but that’s just been upended. Another user who goes by ‘Regnis2005’ found that simply performing the move over water makes you jet across the arena with surprising speed. While not all maps have Gravity Cannons, they do have bodies of liquid that you could potentially use to recreate this. Some are hailing Apex Legends’ punch-boost as the next great movement innovation in the battle royale and, so far, people are getting a ton of mileage.

  • Apex Legends “punch-boost” movement trick removed in Season 12 – Dexerto

Apex Legends “punch-boost” movement trick removed in Season 12 Respawn EntertainmentWhat became a very popular movement trick in Apex Legends has now been removed: The “punch-boost” is no longer possible as of the Season 12 update. Tap-strafing and super-gliding are just some of the popular Apex Legends movement tricks. The downside is they can often be hard to pull off or flat out impossible for some players. However, the punch-boost is easy, powerful, and available to everyone. Discovered by ‘wrthcrw,’ mastering the trick will see you flying down the slopes of Storm Point, or any other Apex Legends map, with speed. Unfortunately for anyone who loved using the mechanic, it will no longer be possible as of the Season 12 update on February 8, per the patch notes. How to punch-boost in Apex Legends The punch-boost essentially extends your momentum from a punch by combining it with a backwards slide. It worked on any elevated surface, but worked best when sliding down hills. First, you have to find a slope or some terrain that is “higher than your feet” – Crouch and walk up to it. – Melee the slope while crouching, and at the same time hold your backwards key (either analog stick back or S) – You should slide backwards at a way faster rate than regular sliding. – You could chain these together too, just punch again when your animation has reset and you’ll gain even more momentum — peaking at over twice the velocity of just regular sliding. Just don’t jump, as that’ll ruin all your hard work. Punch-boosting was also more effective with movement legends such as Octane or Horizon, who can boost their own velocity or maintain it. Even a Bloodhound during Thrill of the Hunt can gain extra effects from punch-boosting. Perhaps the reason punch-boosting was removed is that it’s really easy to execute, and even controller players can do it, unlike tap-strafing which is a PC-only technique. Read More: Apex Legends Heirlooms list – Like some of earlier movement exploits in Apex, once it becomes too common and used frequently, it can impact the gameplay too strongly, causing devs to step in and take action. For now, you’ll no longer be able to boost your speed by punching the ground.

  • Apex Legends publisher teases Titanfall 2 sequel coming “down the road” – Dexerto

Apex Legends publisher teases Titanfall 2 sequel coming “down the road” Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends publisher Electronic Arts has teased a long-awaited sequel to Respawn’s cult multiplayer shooter Titanfall 2 could finally be coming “down the road,” after the devs shelved the planned trilogy release back in 2017. Before there was Wraith, Loba, Kings Canyon, and Apex Legends, Respawn was working on the Titanfall series. The part-wall runner, part-vehicle combat shooter title was billed as a Call of Duty rival, but never really exploded into mainstream popularity. EA may finally be eyeing a return to what has become the Apex Legends prequel, however, Dexerto heard chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen tease during the company’s recent 2020 Q1 financial conference call. Jorgensen was actually answering a question about possibly EA acquiring start-up studios when Respawn Entertainment was brought up. EA’s CFO explained the company’s $300 million Respawn acquisition wasn’t as much about what they were working on — Titanfall 3 at the time — but rather their potential. “We were able to bring them into the fold, and give them incredible support, and it was driven by the fact that they have incredible talent,” he said. “It wasn’t about Titanfall— no offense to Titanfall. It’s an amazing game…” Jorgensen then dropped the bombshell Titanfall fans, and Apex Legends converts, have been eager to hear: “Maybe we’ll see Titanfall sometime down the road.” He did go on to add “it was really about the team,” but his tease had already stuck. Now, there’s every chance Jorgensen just used Titanfall 3 as an example, but the fact he’s even comfortable teasing a possible trilogy release is big news. EA just doesn’t make mistakes in their investor conference calls, after all. Titanfall 3 may well be a possibility for Respawn, or another dev studio, to begin sinking their teeth into, but it likely won’t be anytime soon. In May, Respawn’s co-founder Vince Zampella admitted there was “nothing currently in development.” The former Modern Warfare guru did, however, say he was very interested in seeing “some kind of resurrection there”. Respawn was built on Titanfall, after all. He added he would “see if [he] could make something happen.” If there really is a “resurrection,” as Zampella puts it, of the Titanfall franchise though, it may be a while before we can get our hands on it. Title development would take one or two years, putting a potential release around 2022, at least. In the meantime, Respawn is already finding ways to sneak their original franchise into the new evolution of the title too. Just last month, Titanfall 2 villain Ash made her Apex Legends debut at the end of the single-player Broken Ghost questline. Apex Predator commander Blisk has also been teased repetitively in the battle royale — he’s actually the original founder of the Apex Games — though it’s looking a little unlikely he’ll be a playable Legend heading into Season 6. For now, it’s a waiting game for Titanfall fans eager to see a trilogy release for the cult-series. For those that haven’t played the series sequel before either, it’s just dropped on Steam, and regularly goes on sale. In Apex Legends news, the sixth season is fast approaching. New teasers have been springing up across World’s Edge, crossplay is coming soon, and data miners just got their hands on all the details for Rampart; it’s all happening!

  • Apex Legends PS5 version spotted on PSN ahead of Season 12 – Dexerto

Apex Legends PS5 version spotted on PSN ahead of Season 12 Respawn EntertainmentHopes for a next-gen update for Apex Legends have been given a boost ahead of Season 12, as a PS5 version of the game has been spotted on the PlayStation database. Currently, Apex Legends players with a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series S/X are simply playing the base console version of the game. Although there are some small improvements when playing on newer, more powerful consoles, EA originally said bigger improvements were coming in 2021. These next-gen upgrades didn’t arrive on time, but Respawn Entertainment has consistently assured players that the updates are on the way. It looks like Season 12 could finally see the arrival of the console upgrades. On January 14, PlayStation Game Size on Twitter posted that a new PS5 version of Apex Legends was on the database, totaling 80GB in size. 🚨 A PS5 version of Apex Legends has appeared on the PSN database – it is 80GB. This indicates next-gen console update potentially dropping with Season 12. pic.twitter.com/FuU6bgW8kn — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) January 14, 2022 Plans for the next-gen update include targeting 120 frames per second, as opposed to the standard 60 on last-gen consoles. Apex Legends is likely to also take advantage of the unique adaptive trigger capability of the PS5’s Dualsense controller. Respawn hasn’t made any official announcements about the PS5 version yet though. If it is coming alongside Season 12, it’s likely to be part of the marketing campaign for the new season – starting in early February. However, if the next-gen update isn’t ready for Season 12, it’s possible it could be delayed until Season 13, which would be another three months later. Of course, it could end up being released mid-season, but it’s more likely to be tied in with a season launch. What about cross-progression? Alongside the next-gen updates, cross-progression is by far the most requested feature in Apex Legends. It would allow players to transfer their progress between platforms, rather than having separate accounts on each. Read More: Best guns in Apex Legends: Weapon tier list – There will be hopes that the cross-progression update will come at the same time as next-gen upgrades, but there are no guarantees on that. Respawn has said on numerous occasions that implementing cross-progression when the game wasn’t made with it in mind has been a major challenge. We’ll have to wait until announcements are made about Season 12 to know for sure.

  • Respawn provides update on Apex Legends player reporting and Battle Pass XP issues – Dexerto

Respawn provides update on Apex Legends player reporting and Battle Pass XP issues EARespawn Entertainment provided a quick update about player reporting on PS4 and the Battle Pass XP bug in Apex Legends. When Apex Legends updated to version 1.1, it created some catastrophic problems that resulted in players having their Battle Pass progress wiped and not having access to servers for the majority of the day. Those problems have since subsided, and Respawn provided another update on two other issues currently plaguing Apex. Reporting players on PlayStation 4 The first update concerns PS4 player reporting being temporarily disabled. Respawn says this was done to better comply with how the information is provided to Sony. Read More: When does Apex Legends Season 2 start? – All other platforms will remain active with their reporting system, so if you run across a cheater on PC or Xbox One, you are still free to report them. With recent updates, players are now able to report suspected cheaters in the game itself instead of having to go to the actual website to do so. Respawn has banned countless hackers over the few months the game has been available and ban more and more each day. In fact, the banning has become so much that the players who have been banned are actually angry about being barred from the game. Players don’t have to worry about wiped progress anymore. Battle Pass XP bug The other update addresses the Battle Pass XP boost for the Level 12 badge showing the wrong percentage. Respawn confirmed this is a bug with the user interface, and even though it shows the wrong percentage, players are still earning the 2.5% XP boost. The UI will be fixed in a future update. This will be reassuring information to players who thought they weren’t getting their full XP as leveling up the Battle Pass is a lengthy process. Respawn shared an update about two important things in Apex Legends. You can read the full Reddit post about these issues below: “Hey everyone, quick update today on a couple things that I can speak to: REPORTING ON PS4 We are temporarily turning off player reporting on PS4. We need to do some dev work on it to comply better with how this information is provided to Sony and we’re working with them on the improvements. This is an important feature that we want to bring back and will turn it back on once we’ve done the necessary work. BATTLE PASS XP BOOST FOR LEVEL 12 BADGE SHOWING WRONG % After some investigating from our awesome QA folks, we were able to confirm that this a bug with the UI and even though you may see the percentage change, you are still getting the 2.5% XP boost. We’ll fix the UI in a future update but you can rest assured that you are getting the XP.”

  • Apex Legends pros warn Season 10 is in the ‘worst state’ as aim assist takes over – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros warn Season 10 is in the ‘worst state’ as aim assist takes over Twitch: sweetdreams / Respawn EntertainmentThe debate around aim assist in Apex Legends has hit fever pitch in Season 10. The combination of Seer’s addition and the shake-up to weapons has pro players like ImperialHal, Snip3down, and Sweet fearing the feature will dominate yet again. Aim assist and controllers in Apex Legends has been a contentious topic for months now. However, in Season 10, it’s hitting new levels. With the addition of Seer with his “wallhacks” and incredible intel gathering, as well as the change-up to ground loot with guns like the Prowler returning, Apex Legends pros are warning players to brace for potentially the “worst” meta in some time. NRG pro Chris ‘sweet’ Sexton compared the current Prowler meta to previous controller SMG metas, saying it’s more biased to “mediocre controller players” than ever before. “In the last meta, it was actually good controller players with the R-99 and the Volt shining through over the average controller players, but the Prowler muddles everything. You can be a very mediocre controller player on the Prowler and be very good on it,” sweet said on stream. This view was backed up by TSM’s Eric ‘Snip3down’ Wrona, a controller player himself. “Prowler never should have never been put back on the ground. I don’t know how that gun got put back,” Snip3down added. “I just explained it [to Twitch chat] as like imagine professional basketball players but x amount of those players have the rim expanded by three feet…and they just have an easier chance of making it.” While the two distinguished that it doesn’t matter for public lobbies, in ranked and pro play, controller players will dominate their mouse and keyboard counterparts. One estimate by sweet claimed that 95% of pro players will be on controller by Season 11 or 12. “In the normal game it’s whatever, but competitively speaking, it’s going to be at the point where you need to have an anchor controller Prowler player for close-range fights,” sweet said. This follows on from comments by the likes of Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek. The former CS:GO pro turned Twitch star said earlier in August that Respawn will never be able to balance aim assist in Apex. “Like you get rid of aim assist, then controller sucks. You have aim assist, then controller’s too strong. Like there’s no perfect balance there,” he said. “Let it exist in casual play all day. Just don’t mix in a professional environment. The fact that Apex professional teams have to have at least one minimum controller player does not sit right with me.” Thankfully, Respawn are looking at solving some of the problems — at least more generally. Both Seer nerfs and Prowler changes are on the way, and while they don’t target controller players specifically, it’ll nerf some of the inbuilt power of the deadly Season 10 combo. While it’s not the end of the world, with pros still being adamant that Season 10 brought plenty of good changes, that could change if aim assist doesn’t get changed.

  • Apex Legends pros Vexed Gaming break ALGS kill record, but they didn’t even win – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros Vexed Gaming break ALGS kill record, but they didn’t even win YouTube: MatafeEuropean Apex Legends squad Vexed Gaming managed to break the ALGS kills record, but it came in a game where they just fell short of a win. At every level in Apex Legends – whether it’s casual players, wannabe pros in Ranked, or actual professionals in the ALGS – you’ll find a number of different play styles that clash with other teams. Some would rather play it slow, using the edge of the zone to their advantage by picking off timely kills. Though, there are plenty of squads that go all out from the get-go, looking to rack up points with eliminations and breaking records. As the ALGS has unfolded over the years, teams have racked up some pretty big kill totals. It’s typically impressive if someone gets close to 20, but that means they’ve fallen short of the long-standing record of 23. Though, Vexed Gaming have finally managed to get there. Vexed Gaming get 23 kills in ALGS match That’s right, the European squad that consists of Matafe, Unlucky, and Tyler have finally managed to match the kill record that was previously held solely by DidWeMakeIt – who set it back in NA Autumn Circuit #2. They managed to achieve the feat during the current ALGS split on Day 6 in the fifth game of the round. Despite getting up to 23 kills, they fell just short of a win and finished third. They were edged out by Nightmare and Aurora Gaming, who grabbed 7 and 5 kills respectively. If you missed out on seeing the record happen at the time, don’t fret, Vexed’s Matafe uploaded their achievement – focusing just on the POV of the team – in all its glory. The massive haul of points has pretty much secured Vexed’s place in the playoffs as they’ve only been surpassed by Acend on the overall leaderboard. Who knows, they might be able to go one step further when the lights shine brightest and secure the overall win – even if they don’t match their record again.

  • Apex Legends pros torn on Ash taking over Wraith in Season 11 meta – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros torn on Ash taking over Wraith in Season 11 meta Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pros aren’t convinced Ash is going to take over Wraith in the Season 11 meta — despite community consensus — and they explained why. Apex Legends Season 11 introduced many new things, including the Storm Point map and C.A.R SMG weapon. The biggest talking point, though, has been the addition of the latest legend to join the roster, Ash. Not only does she have an aggressive kit to track and kill enemies, but her Ultimate, Phase Breach, is somewhat similar to Wraith’s Portal. It can be targeted anywhere in her sightline, making it more convenient. However, it comes with the catch of being a one-way trip. Because of that, and the fact her other abilities are more aggressive than her counterpart, some players are convinced she’ll replace Wraith in the Season 11 meta. However, TSM’s Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen and NRG’s Christopher ‘sweet’ Sexton are less inclined. “I don’t think so,” said ImperialHal. “Her Q is just dog sh*t. I feel like you don’t know until you try it in comp. But yeah, I don’t think it’s great. It seemed like it was [going to be] way better than it is, which is weird. “You can basically tell where everybody is on the map. Technically that’s kind of good. But I don’t think it will be that good in [competitive].” Read More: When is Apex Legends Market event crossover? – “Ash is probably one of the worst characters you could play aggressive with, which is weird because her whole lore is she’s a killer.” TSM’s Eric ‘Snip3down’ Wrona thinks they’re wrong, though. “You just haven’t played the character enough,” he told G2’s Gent, who was unsure on Ash’s strength. “I’m going to tell you right now. That character… is really good for instant shots on the back when [an enemy team] pushes up to you. It’s really, really good for that.” “I was not using her for my team’s portal at all. I was literally using her just to get angles on the team’s back… it’s just insta-f**king-wipe every time.” “Teams just freak out because it’s pretty much silent, too. You don’t know where they’re portalling.” Sweet was also agreeing with Snip3down in the background of the call, meaning the NRG star could be having a change of heart on Ash’s strengths. Of course, it’ll take some time for players to figure out the best way to use Ash in terms of playstyle and squad line-ups. After all, Apex Legends Season 11 only went live on November 2. The meta is still in its infancy. Still, first impressions matter, and not everyone is confident in her abilities yet. But that could change down the road.

  • Apex Legends pros testing possible new map for ALGS Year 4 – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros testing possible new map for ALGS Year 4 Respawn EntertainmentEA and Respawn are apparently considering a major shakeup to the map pool for Apex Legends’ ALGS year four, as they’re now looking at feedback for Olympus. In order to keep things fresh with battle royales, developers across the board have constantly had to refresh maps to make things interesting. Whereas some battle royales have had one, maybe two maps to update, Apex Legends has had the advantage of having four maps to play with. These maps are on constant rotation in public and Ranked games, which means things are kept fresh from gaming session to gaming session. In the case of recent ALGS seasons, the devs have only utilized three of these maps, however – World’s Edge, Kings Canyon, and Storm Point. The latter which they only introduced during Season 12, as it replaced the old favorite of Kings Canyon. Olympus being considered as new map for ALGS Year 4 Well, as players and organizations are gearing up for ALGS Year 4, it appears EA is considering another shake-up. According to FURIA’s Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith, EA has been asking teams to run scrims on the map in order to get some feedback on how it plays – likely with a view to using it in ALGS competition. “They want people to run scrims on it to gather feedback because there is high potential of it being added in year four,” the former TSM star said. Though his teammates didn’t seem too pleased about it the idea, with one calling it “dogs*it.” However, Albralelie did lay down a marker for where his trio would be dropping if Olympus makes it into the rotation. “Just wanna be early to this so I can get things rolling, so in the event of Olympus entering year 4 of ALGS, FURIA will be committing to Carrier/Fight Night and Lightning Rod as our Y4 POI’s,” he tweeted afterward. As of now, nothing has been confirmed by EA and it appears things are still up in the air. Players will be given a chance to voice their opinions on the map, but EA has final say as to whether or not it gets in.

  • Apex Legends pros take revenge against cheaters with new vigilante squad – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros take revenge against cheaters with new vigilante squad Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pros take revenge against “gigacheaters” by forming a 15-man vigilante squad to kill the hacker. It’s an unfortunate reality in Apex that cheaters aren’t rare to find, with various pros and content creators regularly posting videos of these pesky hackers in their matches. Be it a horde of bots hunting ImperialHal down, or HisWattson calling out the devs about the pains of playing against cheaters in his lobbies, it’s often a big talking point. The devs have taken steps to clamp down on cheaters, with a massive ban wave happening back in September 2023, however, it seems that cheating isn’t gone just yet as many instances of cheating are still taking place to this day. Pros are now taking matters into their own hands it seems, forming vigilante kill squads to hunt down cheaters in their Pred lobbies. In a stream clip posted by lou, a player for Complexity, we can see him IGL-ing a 15-man kill squad, all in an attempt to kill a single cheater. And in his squad, we can see some notable names, with gdolphn and Mande. “15 PROS TEAMED UP IN A PRED LOBBY TO S*** ON THE GIGACHEATERS!” lou captioned his tweet. Huddled together in a building on Olympus, the squad attempted to overwhelm the cheater by jumping on them all at once, as if you can shoot one player at a time, you can’t shoot all of them at once. However, the cheater was able to teleport away from the vigilante squad once they jumped on them and subsequently crashed the server to not let lou and his gang get the satisfaction of killing them. Despite the pros laughing the incident off, cheating is still a problem in Apex with regular occurrences of cheating in Predator-level lobbies. So perhaps we’ll be seeing more vigilante super squads soon.

  • Apex Legends pros & streamers explain why Horizon is “ruining” the game – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros & streamers explain why Horizon is “ruining” the game Respawn/EAA number of Apex Legends pro players and streamers have voiced their complaints about Horizon, claiming she’s a little too broken even for the pro ranks and is in need of some changes. Horizon was added to Apex Legends at the start of Season 7, and quickly gravity-lifted her way up the ranks to become one of the most popular legends in the battle royale. She fits perfectly in pretty much any trio or duo, given the fact her ultimate can drag enemies into one spot, and she has some pretty unmatchable movement to boot. While she is popular and tops the charts as one of the most played characters still, some players aren’t too happy with how she dominated the game currently and want some changes. Apex pros believe Horizon is too OP During his March 26 stream, TSM’s Mac ‘Albralelie’ Kenzie Beckwith labeled the Scottish astrophysicist as “anti-fun,” and that she “doesn’t fit the game,” even though plenty of players are pretty decently skilled at using her. “The reason I don’t like her is because she goes against everything the devs have said they want the game to be, and what they don’t want the game to be,” the TSM member said. He noted that the removal of bunny hop healing was done because some players had too much mobility in fights, and was “unfair,” but Horizon herself has too much thanks to her Gravity Lift. “The average player can’t f**king beam her out of the sky, let alone the pros,” he continued, adding that Horizon strafe speed is unbalanced. While he joked about getting rid of her from the game altogether, Albralelie offered up a simple solution – give players audio cues when Horizon is around, especially with her Gravity Lift. Additionally, SoaR Gaming’s Daltoosh agreed with a Tweet from streamer Faide that Horizon “ruins Apex.” Respawn have already confirmed that some of the complaints that players have with Horizon are being addressed in Season 9. The devs are reducing the speed at which “you can wriggle back and forth as you go up her gravity lift” in a bid to make tracking a little easier. It remains to be seen if these changes will be enough for pros, or if they’ll want a few more tweaks bundled in as well.

  • Apex Legends DDoSers are ruining Ranked again in Season 13 – Dexerto

Apex Legends DDoSers are ruining Ranked again in Season 13 Respawn EntertainmentDDoSers have returned to Ranked in Apex Legends Season 13 and are abusing server crashes to dodge RP losses and secure unearned victories. Apex Legends is a competitive game at its heart and that means players are desperate to win every match they queue up for, especially in Ranked. While the majority of the community abides by the rules and relies on their own skill to pick up wins, others prefer to use third-party software to gain a massive advantage. Although this can include aimbots and wallhacks, at the very top of Ranked the preferred method tends to be DDoS attacks that disrupt the entire sever, effectively disconnecting all the players in a match. Well, the frequency of these deliberate server crashes has increased following the Season 13 update, and players are growing more and more frustrated. DDoSers are crashing servers to prevent RP loss in Ranked DDoS attacks at high ranks in Apex have been an issue since the game’s release and although Respawn has threatened legal action against those responsible, the problem persists. The issue seems to be getting even worse now demotion has been added with Saviors, as cheaters are now using server attacks to prevent themselves from losing RP and moving down Ranked tiers. As showcased on the Apex Legends subreddit, user ApK-TheProdigy and their squad managed to reach the final circle with one other enemy team left. While they made short work of the opposing competitors, they were hit with a DDoS attack as soon as they saw the victory screen, nullifying their win and stopping the other squad of DDoSers from losing RP. According to the comments, deliberate crashes like this are occurring frequently, with the cheaters waiting until the end of the game to prevent anyone from progressing their rank: “Saw this same thing happen 5 times in a row to a friend of mine today…They gotta get this s**t fixed ASAP.” While Respawn has promised to do more when it comes to removing cheaters and hackers, it’s obvious the community doesn’t feel they’re doing enough. Let’s just hope the devs have a long-term plan to eliminate the issue for good, or the numbers of DDoSers may just continue to expand.

  • Apex Legends pros & streamers call for Gold Knockdown shields to be removed from Ranked – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros & streamers call for Gold Knockdown shields to be removed from Ranked Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pros and streamers are calling for Respawn to remove Gold Knockdown Shields from appearing in Ranked matches. Gold Knockdown Shields can give squads a huge advantage in Apex Legends. Not only does this Legendary piece of equipment block 750 damage, but it also comes with the incredibly powerful self-revive passive. This enables players to avoid being instantly eliminated – transforming a loss into a scenario where a clutch victory can be achieved. As you’d expect, Gold Knockdown Shields are highly coveted in the game, with many players looking to get their hands on this lifesaving item. While the Apex Legends Ranked changes have been met with a lot of praise from the community, a number of pro players and streamers now want Respawn to remove Gold Knockdown Shields completely. Apex Legends pros call for Gold Knockdown Shield removal “Change self res so if your team is all downed in Ranked, you are out of the game. The item is so uncompetitive,” said Jamison “PVPX” Moore. This sentiment was also shared by Ryan “Reptar” Boyd, who said: “All this season needs is self res removed and wowee Ranked is amazing.” In its current form, players with Gold Knockdown Shields can instantly begin reviving themselves as soon they get knocked. While this may not be an issue in the early game, it can become incredibly difficult to counter in late-game circles, particularly when squads are constantly involved in hectic firefights. CHANGE SELF RES SO IF YOUR TEAM IS ALL DOWNED IN RANKED YOU ARE OUT OF THE GAME THE ITEM IS SO UNCOMPETITIVE — FURIA Jxmo (@Jxmo_1) May 5, 2022 This can lead to situations where you may wipe out a squad, only to find they have all been revived a few seconds later. While getting third-partied from the very enemies you previously downed can feel rough, the new Ranked changes heavily incentivize placing highly and securing eliminations to greatly maximize RP. Whether Respawn will make any adjustments to Gold Knockdown Shields remains to be seen, but for now, you’ll need to take extra care when fighting squads.

  • Apex Legends pros start using Bangalore to counter aim assist in ALGS – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros start using Bangalore to counter aim assist in ALGS Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pros have added Bangalore to their team comps as she hard counters aim assist with her tactical ability. While the debate surrounding the power of controller aim assist has been going on since the release of Apex Legends back in 2019, it’s been particularly heated recently. This is because pros like Philip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen have openly voiced that they think aim assist is overpowered and is easy to “abuse”. It’s clear a lot of other NA ALGS players believe this too, as it was revealed recently that the top 12 performers following the third round of matches on November 14 were all using controller. In response, a set of teams from the APAC region have started using Bangalore, as the Professional Solider has an ability that directly counters aim assist. How to counter aim assist with Bangalore in Apex Legends Instead of waiting on Respawn to nerf aim assist, some ALGS players have come up with their own counters, and one of them is Bangalore. When a controller player aims into the Professional Soldier’s smoke, their aim assist is completely disabled. This makes it extremely difficult for them to lock onto a target and track their movement. As a result, APAC players are using this to force unfair gunfights, giving the upper hand to MnK users. It’s worth noting, a controller player doesn’t need to be inside the smoke for their aim assist to be shut down, simply aiming towards it prevents it from functioning. As Apex streamer Jack ‘NiceWigg’ Martin explained to his viewers on stream, Bangalore is becoming a staple pick in APAC and it may spread to other regions in the near future. With so many pros taking up controller and dropping MnK for good, the Professional Soldier may be the only direct counter available. If you’re getting frustrated with controller users as an MnK player, it could be time to learn Bangalore, as it seems unlikely that a nerf to aim assist is coming from Respawn anytime soon.

  • Apex Legends pros start #ChangeApexRanked trend to fix “outdated” Ranked Play – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros start #ChangeApexRanked trend to fix “outdated” Ranked Play Respawn/EAApex Legends pro players are once again asking for Respawn to address the current Ranked system as some believe it is “outdated” and in need of a major overhaul – and it’s even got the devs’ attention. While most Apex Legends players opt to stick with the casual battle royale mode and Arenas, those who really want to make their mark on the game head over to Ranked Leagues. Ranked pits the best against the best with only a select few rising to the very top and being able to claim that they are the very best in the world. However, pro players have long wanted changes to the mode to reward team play over individual moments of brilliance in the hopes of really taking it to the next level. Previous calls have been somewhat ignored by Respawn but Cloud9’s Jamison ‘PVPX‘ Moore has kickstarted another #ChangeApexRanked movement and has a few ideas that could easily be implemented. Mostly, PVPX’s suggestions center around bringing Team Kill Points so that the whole team benefits and it also doesn’t punish those who prioritize making it to the late game rather than flashy plays. The idea would also eliminate the current assists and kills multiplier that has been a bug bear for many players. “This system will be better for people who Solo Q & people who group up,” the Cloud9 star said. “Better for micro & macro decision making. Also ties into a format similar to ALGS which is the next level of competitive Apex play.” This system will be better for people who Solo Q & people who group up. (Read replies) pic.twitter.com/k6h9gGjTQm — FURIA Jxmo (@Jxmo_1) August 20, 2021 The ideas got plenty of support from fellow players too who agree with making Ranked more about team play rather than just a random trio joining together and attempting to one-up each other on kills. They also came to the attention of Respawn’s Josh Medina who questioned if this was related to the #SaveApexRanked movement that had been started previously or something totally new. “Whichever answer gives it more importance. The current ranked system is extremely outdated,” replied PVPX. Whichever answer gives it more importance. The current ranked system is extremely outdated. — FURIA Jxmo (@Jxmo_1) August 19, 2021 As noted, previous calls for changes have fallen somewhat on dead ears, but it is something that has community support. We’ll have to wait and see if it’s different this time around or if Respawn actually jump to make the requested changes alongside the ideas they already have.

  • Apex Legends pros slam “terrible” Season 11 ranked changes – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros slam “terrible” Season 11 ranked changes Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Season 11 featured a ranked overhaul, introducing a new KP system that rewards players who get plenty of kills but die early, but pros have slammed the change as “terrible.” Apex Legends Season 11 is here, and there’s plenty to talk about. Titanfall’s iconic antagonist Ash is joining the Apex Games, and Storm Point has been added as the game’s fourth map. Among Legend and weapon changes, the Apex Legends ranked system has also been overhauled. Pro players have long requested ranked changes, asking Respawn to implement demotion from higher tiers to make the experience more competitive and enjoyable. They have also asked for a proper in-game leaderboard and more cosmetic rewards for Predator players. However, they claim the Season 11 changes to the RP and KP system are “terrible”, stating it “promotes a completely different playstyle than what competitive Apex does.” “Ranked changes are absolutely terrible but everything else is great. No other context required,” NRG’s Chris ‘sweet’ Sexton said on Twitter. Ranked changes are absolutely terrible but everything else is great. No other context required — sweet (@sweetdreams) October 28, 2021 The changes, which have raised the cap on KP to allow players to frag out a storm and still get maximum RP (for their placement), haven’t been well received. “Pretty disappointed that the Ranked changes still promote a completely different playstyle than what competitive Apex does,” Alliance’s John ‘Hakis’ Hakansson stated. “Ranked is supposed to be a gateway into comp to test the waters of how the game is actually supposed to be played at a high level. “Instead it keeps being a fiesta where it’s basically just pubs with points.” Pretty disappointed that the Ranked changes still promotes a completely different playstyle then what competitive apex does. • Apex Legends pros slam “embarrassing” Season 14 Ranked – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros slam “embarrassing” Season 14 Ranked Respawn EntertainmentMultiple Apex Legends pros have spoken out to criticize the “embarrassing” Ranked mode in Season 14 and question the lack of improvements from Respawn. Despite huge changes arriving for Apex Legends Ranked back in Saviors, the mode is still receiving a lot of criticism from the community in Season 14. Of course, no one is more vocal about the issues than the pros who play the game for a living, and a lot of them have taken to Twitter to voice their frustration. Describing the current state of Ranked as “embarrassing”, Cloud9’s Jamison ‘PVPX’ Moore is confused about Respawn’s decision to “speed up [the] zone, zone damage, and uncap KP” during a Kings Canyon split. In his opinion, the mode is in such a poor state that he’s surprised Respawn hasn’t “hot patched” the problems yet. FURIA Esports pro-Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin, a personality that has dominated the news for other reasons in recent weeks, decided to shine a light on the matchmaking problems in Ranked. Sharing a photo of Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul’s boxing record, HisWattson poked fun at the extremely unbalanced matches plaguing Ranked in Season 14. With Gold and Plat players facing Predators in some cases, it’s incredibly difficult to find the motivation to climb Ranked when it feels unfair. Finally content creator SoaR hollow pointed out that Respawn has made over $2 billion off Apex and the game still lacks “a workshop mode, custom servers for everyone, higher tickrate servers, better audio, better cosmetics, better matchmaking, better-ranked rewards, [&] a replay system.” While Respawn can only work on a limited amount of content at a time, it’s obvious the community’s frustration is growing when it comes to matchmaking, Ranked, and servers. These are three fundamental aspects of Apex that have had issues for a long period of time. While the devs have promised improvements are on the way, it’s clear pros and casual players alike are losing patience. Let’s hope Respawn can implement some changes in Season 15, or the complaints will continue to roll in.

  • Apex Legends pros slam devs for leaving game in “the worst state” it’s ever been – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros slam devs for leaving game in “the worst state” it’s ever been Electronic ArtsSeveral Apex Legends pro players have heavily criticized Respawn and EA for their lack of communication and prioritization of revenue over fixing core issues with the game. On an episode of the Apex After Hours podcast, pros Albralelie and Snip3down blasted the developers for not responding to longstanding bugs and glitches, most notably the silent gun firing exploit that has existed for several months. The game’s management was also criticized by k4shera, who tweeted out a lengthy summary of what was wrong with the “literally broken” current state of play in Apex. Albralelie and Snip3down lash out at “pathetic” management of Apex Legends Albralelie said that he was “out of patience” with the game, and described Respawn’s current approach to development as “pathetic” because game-breaking issues such as no sound in team fights should be patched within weeks. Snip3down unfavorably compared Respawn’s management of Apex to how Riot Games manages Valorant, saying that the latter was “the golden standard o how you want to see developers see and communicate and react to issues.” “None of this matters to [Respawn]. This also goes on to the DDoSing issue or the cheating issue in ranked that people are complaining about. How has it taken so long to fix something like this?” For Snip3down, the biggest insult is the “zero communication” from developers about the direction the game is headed in, because the “only goal is to push out cosmetics.” According to k4shera, the game was in a state that”no competitor should’ve been forced to compete with”. The pros highlighted that the frustration was so strong because of how much they love the core game. It’s “because the game is so good” that they want it to be improved. • Apex Legends pros slam “atrocious” ring bug making it impossible to see – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros slam “atrocious” ring bug making it impossible to see Respawn EntertainmentMultiple Apex Legends pros have run into a frustrating ring bug that makes it impossible to see outside the circle, blurring the screen with blinding brightness. While the aim of Apex Legends is to stay inside the zones and avoid taking any ring damage throughout a match, that’s not always possible. Depending on where you drop at the start of a game, the first or second zone can be a huge distance away. As a result, if you’re caught up with looting or get into a drawn-out skirmish with another squad, it’s easy to fall behind the zone and take ring damage. While the damage is usually manageable with enough syringes on hand, it’s a frustrating visual bug that’s causing a lot of problems for the community. None more so than the pros, who have described the blinding brightness issue as “atrocious” and claim it’s impossible to fight outside the ring. Blinding zone bug is frustrating the pros in Apex Legends As showcased by Apex YouTuber justapexthings, a blinding zone bug that makes it impossible to see outside the ring is frustrating a lot of pros. ImperialHal, Reps, Velhurst, Snip3down, HisWattson, and Mande have all experienced the brightness issue on stream. While Hal speculated that the problem may have been a deliberate zone change by Respawn, it’s actually a long-standing glitch that’s been in the game for multiple seasons. However, the “atrocious” issue seems to have become more common in Season 14, activating whenever a player is caught out by the zone and stays outside the ring for longer than 30 seconds. For Snip3down, he revealed that he thought he was “hallucinating” and in Reps’ case, he lost a gunfight because of the overwhelming brightness, complaining that “I can’t see anything, my screen in blurry as f**k”. It’s clear the ring bug is causing a lot of confusion for pros who don’t understand why it’s suddenly triggering so often. As this is such an old bug, it’s likely Respawn is aware of the issue but has not found a way to fix it just yet. Unfortunately, countless gunfights happen outside the ring and are often the most high-pressure skirmishes, so not being able to see is a major issue. Let’s hope the devs can identify a solution very soon, or it’s going to continue to cause frustration amongst players and pros alike.

  • Apex Legends pros slam ALGS after high-end PCs delay ahead of Split 2 Playoffs – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros slam ALGS after high-end PCs delay ahead of Split 2 Playoffs EAApex Legends pros are sounding off ahead of the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs after tournament organizers, EA, reportedly failed to secure high-end PC equipment promised for the $1,000,000 LAN. Members across TSM, GMT, Alliance, and more reacted to EA’s apparent decision to renege on its commitment of providing machines built with RTX 3080s and 11th Gen i7s in time for the April 29 kickoff. Two days before Day 1 of ALGS, orgs got the word that the event was going back to its original offering of PCs with RTX 2070s that pros and team managers agreed would not suffice. The years-old equipment was a major point of concern when it was announced, forcing EA to switch it up on April 21 by notifying teams of the imminent upgrade. Apex Legends pros slam ‘last-second switch’ TSM Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith didn’t mince words after the ALGS tournament organizer (TO) told his team that they shouldn’t expect to play with upgraded equipment. “It was initially fixed,” he said on Twitter. “We were told new PCs would be provided. This time, however, EA is yet to address the latest reactions from its ALGS members, and has not responded to Dexerto’s request for comment.

  • Apex Legends pros set insane world record for kills in a match – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros set insane world record for kills in a match A trio of Apex Legends pro players have set a new world record of 72 kills in the Winter Express LTM from Mirage’s Holo-Day Bash event, which went live on December 12. The Holo-Day Bash event brings festive joy to World’s Edge, hosted by everyone’s favorite Holographic Trickster, Mirage. After going live during The Game Awards ceremony on December 12, Mirage’s Christmas–themed event brought with it a host of cosmetics and a brand new limited-time event, called Winter Express. It is the latter which has been of keen interest to players around the world, with the game mode giving World’s Edge’s freight train an aptly timed festive overhaul. Working in a ‘King of the Hill’ fashion, three teams spawn with predetermined loadouts and fight for control over areas of the merry metro. Players respawn after being eliminated, which means you’ll have to outwit and slay your opponents in order to capture your objective. Although the game mode appears straightforward on the surface, capturing the objective is no easy feat. However, merely two days after the LTM went live, a squad have managed to set a kill world record. Landing a neat total of 72 kills, the team netted themselves an enormous total squad damage of 14,211 — which equates to just under 200 damage per kill! Since the game mode continuously throws players back into the server, this squad managed to exploit this system to bag as many kills as possible. It’s worth noting that this record doesn’t knock off the regular mode record of 46, given that this LTM obviously provides much more opportunity for kills. You can see all the Apex Legends world records for regular modes here. Perhaps most impressively, the trio did not require a single respawn between them throughout the duration of the game. However, their endeavors were made in vain, since Anbu and co. finished in third position… Which almost takes from the scale of their accomplishment. Since the LTM will see us through the holiday season, players from around the world will be trying their hand at defeating this record. Reckon you’ve got what it takes? If you manage to beat the record, let’s hope you can bag that all-important victory along the way!

  • Apex Legends pros accused of sabotaging PC’s at Preseason Invitational – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros accused of sabotaging PC’s at Preseason Invitational Respawn/UnsplashA number of Apex Legends pro players have accused others of ‘sabotaging’ their chances of winning an international event by messing with settings before games. Despite launching to massive acclaim and popularity back in February, Apex hasn’t quite been able to make its mark in the esports scene. Top organizations like 100 Thieves, NRG esports, and Team Liquid all have active squads, but it’s not quite hit the heady heights set by its most direct rival in Fortnite. Yet, Respawn Entertainment and EA are running tournaments between some of the top teams. However, their latest event – the Apex Pre-Season Invitational in Poland – has stirred some controversy between players in attendance who have accused others of purposely messing up settings before matches. The situation was brought to light by Team SoloMid’s Jordan ‘Reps’ Wolfe, who tweeted out a warning to his fellow pros who were in action on the second day. “Double check all your settings if you are playing today at Poland,” he tweeted. “Teams that are done playing have been changing tons of settings on windows, monitors etc to screw over other teams.” Wolfe then followed up with an explanation of the settings he had run into. “I highly doubt these pro players play on 60hz with mouse accel on and windows sens maxed and with all the monitor settings changed to be all blurry :)” I highly doubt these pro players play on 60 hz with mouse accel on and windows sens maxed and with all the monitor settings changed to be all blurry 🙂 — TSM_Reps:first_place_medal:Poland WIN (@TSM_Reps) September 14, 2019 It wasn’t just Reps who run into the issues, however, as Pittsburgh Knights star Tyler ‘Sickks’ Clark said that he had also witnessed the problems. Apex Legends pros praise Scump as CoD legend is “addicted” to battle royale Call of Duty LeagueSeth ‘Scump’ Abner has been grinding Apex Legends during his retirement and, according to some ALGS pros, he doesn’t look too bad in the battle royale. Scump has jumped into Apex Legends play recently as he turned to streaming after retiring from Call of Duty esports. The OpTic gaming content creator has fallen in love with the EA and Respawn title and has expressed his desire to hit the top rank, Predator, in the game. His efforts have not gone unnoticed in the Apex Legends community. Top players like NRG esports’ Christopher ‘sweetdreams’ Sexton and TSM’s Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen have commented on Scumps recent dive into the game. “I was watching Scump play, he’s an absolute demon,” sweetdreams said. “I mean if you were good mechanically on controller you’re going to move to Apex and find a lot of success.” sweetdreams said the Call of Duty legend’s biggest weakness is game knowledge and that should be shored up as he continues to play the title. sweetdreams and ImperialHal comment on Scumps Apex Legends skills Imperial was less impressed with Scumps gameplay, saying that the clips he posts are of him playing with two other party members and dominating public lobbies. The TSM star also said that Apex Legends is a much harder game than Call of Duty. ImperialHal also said he could see some of the Call of Duty League pros getting into competitive Apex Legends. sweetdreams, however, doesn’t see Scump returning to competitive esports anytime soon. “Guys you are delusional if you think Scump would ever think about playing competitively. He’s just playing for fun and to enjoy it. My man put his time in comp, now he just needs to do what Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek did,” the NRG player said. So far, Scump has only expressed interest in playing ranked Apex Legends for fun. However, nothing is stopping the former COD pro from playing in content creator tournaments or more low-stakes Alex Legends events.

  • Apex Legends pros show how Gibraltar can easily outplay entire teams – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros show how Gibraltar can easily outplay entire teams Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are getting craftier with Gibraltar every day and we’re starting to see insane outplays from pro players that bamboozle entire squads — with two big plays from Albralelie and Lou taking the cake. Despite the size of characters like Gibraltar, pros have thrived with the Legend by compensating for his stocky build by optimizing how they use his defensive ability kit. By playing with sneaky angles and pushing the limits of his Dome Shield, Gibby can be surprisingly flexible in Apex. Being in 1v3 is never a great situation. But some players like Sentinels’ Trenton ‘lou’ Clements and TSM’s Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith show how you can use the Shielded Fortress to turn the tide and send opponents running. Albralelie limit testing Dome Shields As a solo, Albralelie was fending off enemies left and right. But when he wanted to move to the top floor of the building, he created space for himself like only Gibby can. He threw down the Defensive Bombardment ultimate one floor below, where he was safe, before setting up his Dome Shield on an object so that it was propped up slightly higher than the floor. After he went topside, a sliver of the dome was poking above the floor as the aerial strikes were coming down. This can displace opponents while giving Gibraltar better positioning to pick and choose his targets. Gibby Door Block Lou used Gibraltar’s Dome Shield in a slightly different way by throwing the ability behind him to stymie an enemy Ash from breaking through a door. The move turned the tables from Lou getting chased to having the better shot on the player that was creeping up on him. It took a little while for Gibby to stand on his own, but Respawn has had time to tweak the character to make him a strong pick in Apex Legends.

  • Apex Legends pros explain why they want Kraber removed from competitive – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros explain why they want Kraber removed from competitive Respawn EntertainmentA new suggestion is making the rounds in the competitive Apex Legends community: several pros are calling for the removal of supply drop weapons — namely the infamous Kraber sniper rifle — from official tournaments. Competitive tournaments are the backbone of professional play in any game, and Apex Legends is no different. Tournaments like the ALGS are the bread and butter of the pro Apex scene, and they see the best players from across the world come out to compete. A huge part of the pro scene in Apex revolves around the balancing of the game’s many guns. Finding and using meta weapons is essential to securing victory, and even small tweaks to how weapons function can have a huge impact on professional play. Weapon balance is a topic of constant discussion, and well-known pros Bowen ‘Monsoon’ Fuller and Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith have sparked a new debate about weapon balance: should the game’s powerful supply drop guns be removed from competitive play entirely? Apex pros want supply drop weapons removed On March 20, Complexity’s Monsoon tweeted out “Removing Kraber from comp Apex might be a good idea!” Many fans were quick to push back on the suggestion, but Fuller did not back down and tried explaining his thoughts in more detail. “I’m talking about pro tournament play, not Ranked, not pubs,” he clarified. Other Apex pros also chimed in with support for Monsoon’s idea, including TSM’s Albralelie, who provided further evidence that this change would improve the state of the BR’s pro scene. Competitive Apex, ALGS, other tournaments etc. NOT RANKED. For those of you that dont understand what monsoon and other pro’s are asking for. In case people aren’t aware, care packages were disabled during the pre season invitational and it was the best competitive experience. https://t.co/AL9o5uR8hU — Albralelie (@TSM_Albralelie) March 21, 2021 “Care packages were disabled during the pre-season invitational and it was the best competitive experience [ever],” he shared. Beckwith also explained how competing without supply drops reduces the impact of RNG on the tournaments, something many pros are in favor of as well. Still, others continued to push back on the idea of removing supply drop weapons like the Kraber. When another player suggested Respawn change the effectiveness of the guns themselves, Albralelie pointed out that would simply make their place in the packages irrelevant. You have no idea when one is on the field, where it is, or who has it until it’s already been used. — Albralelie (@TSM_Albralelie) March 21, 2021 Beckwith also compared the supply drop guns to power weapons from Halo, and pointed out that “[they] exist for the same purpose, to give your team control over the game. The difference between Halo and Apex is that power weapons are RNG in Apex.” Other supporters of the idea pointed to Call of Duty’s GA (Gentleman’s Agreement) system, where pro players identify certain weapons, attachments, and equipment that they think are too powerful, and collectively agree to avoid using them because of the advantages they provide. Regardless of the pushback from some players, the majority of Apex pros are clearly in favor of removing the Kraber and other supply drop weapons from professional play, so it’s quite possible EA and other third-party organizers could implement that change at some point in the future.

  • Apex Legends pros explain why mouse and keyboard players are dying out – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros explain why mouse and keyboard players are dying out Joe Brady/ ALGSControllers have been considered a better option for Apex Legends competitive players, thanks to aim assist in close-up battles, over using a mouse and keyboard for a while now. Players using the latter have been slowly dying out. The Apex Legends community has bemoaned about controller players forever as they say aim assist, and controller figurations that automate certain mechanics, give them an advantage over mouse and keyboard players. Respawn has addressed the community about this in the past and has outlawed some of the more egregious configurations. At the professional level, using a controller is considered more optimal and most teams either have one or no mouse and keyboard player. The teams with a mouse and keyboard player usually utilize them as an IGL, leading the team with in-game calls or sniping opponents with long-range weapons. But it seems like the days of the non-IGL mouse and keyboard player are on the way out, according to pro Apex Legends players. Mouse and keyboard Apex Legends pros dying out Alex ‘scuwry’ Scala is a veteran Apex pro who was last signed to 100 Thieves. He explained on social media how as a non-IGL mouse and keyboard player, he he feels “useless” for teams as a free agent. “My only leverage in finding people to play with was the fact that I own the pro league spot, and even then, I struggled to find a team that could work. People don’t look for role-fillers anymore. They pick up roller players and hope they can learn the slot,” scuwry explained. The IGL of one of the only teams that have three mouse and keyboard players, Legends Gaming, also chimed in on the discussion in a now-deleted social media post explaining the plights of not using a controller at the highest level. At the highest level of play, some fights come down to just taking on the enemy and praying “we hit enough shots to win cleanly.” “Oftentimes, because we’re triple mnk, there’s not enough damage being dealt to effectively win the fight. Shots where a controller player would a one clip 90% of the time, an mnk player would just barely crack a person 90% of the time,” Gen Ghi ‘StrafingFlame’ Subroto said. The player and his team, who placed third at the 2023 ALGS Championship, is often touted as an example to argue that mouse and keyboard players can compete. However, StrafingFlame concluded his post by saying that there isn’t a discussion anymore, at the pro level, of which is better for competition.

  • Apex Legends pros divided as TSM outed for “data mining” zone endings – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros divided as TSM outed for “data mining” zone endings Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends community is divided after NA stalwarts TSM were accused of “data mining” maps to get better zone knowledge. The mined files showcased where zones could not end on specific maps, and have been made publicly available in the past. While data mining has been a core part of the Apex Legends community, revealing new content before it launches, it’s technically against the rules. EA’s User Agreement prohibits users from “[using] any robot, spider or other automated device or process to access EA Services for any purpose such as scraping data,” as well as “engaging or assisting in cheating or other anticompetitive behavior.” If players are found to have broken EA’s Terms of Service, they cannot compete in Apex Legends esports. Usually, it only involves a skin here or there, as massive Legend leaks are typically outside of what can be accessed from the public game. But it can also have some data which can be used competitively, such as zone positioning. Now a revelation on November 28 has thrown the Apex Legends pro community into disrepute. SSG pro Mark ‘Dropped’ Thees spread the word on Twitter: “Data mining for zones is supposedly a thing in apex and I think it should be talked about and more common knowledge for everyone. “The way it was explained is, you can basically find through the code of the game in each update which certain zones can happen and which can’t. [It’s] too big of an advantage for teams that have access to it without other teams even realizing this is a thing.” Initially, there was one team at the center of accusations: TSM. The multi-time champions admitted to using data-mined zone information after coach ‘Raven’ went onto NRG star Chris ‘Sweet’ Sexton‘s stream. “I don’t see how it’s a lack of competitive integrity,” Raven said. Raven’s commentary caught the ire of the stream, as well as many in the community. He brushed off concerns about it being against the rules, saying he was just doing his job as an analyst. Philip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen alluded to multiple other squads using it on Twitter, despite others denying as much: “They will have to ban Alliance, Furia, FaZe, and maybe even Liquid. Good luck!” It’s not the first time zone endings have been data mined. ‘Shrugtal’ circulated maps for Storm Point and World’s Edge back in February 2022, showcasing where zones would never end. Typically it blocked out any major buildings, as well as some POIs. Actual evidence of teams using data mined zone information for competitive benefit hasn’t actually been shown publicly beyond hearsay. Whether it’s data mining is another question entirely as teams could be using entirely public information for their zone readings. EA is yet to take action and ban teams from ALGS, which is currently halfway through its Year 3 Split 1 season.

  • Apex Legends pros desperate for major Ranked changes in Season 11 – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros desperate for major Ranked changes in Season 11 Instagram: @snip3down/ImperialHal/RogueApex Legends pros have been calling for major Ranked changes in Season 11, including the removal of the Kraber, demotion, and an update to Kings Canyon. Season 11 of Apex Legends has finally been revealed and is set to arrive on November 2, introducing the new Legend Ash to the game. Although excitement is at an all-time high for the major update, Apex pros are pushing Respawn to make some serious changes to Ranked next season, as a lot of players aren’t satisfied with the current experience. With Philip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen, Eric ‘Snip3down’ Wrona, and Tanner ‘Rogue’ Trebb all voicing their opinion on the state of Apex’s competitive mode, a variety of suggestions have been put forward throughout Season 10. What Ranked changes do Apex pros want in Season 11? When it comes to Apex Legends Ranked changes, there’s one feature that is requested more than any other by the pros, and that’s demotion. In its current state, Apex players can play competitive matches up to a certain rank, and then feel safe knowing that they can’t drop any lower. This does mean that players aren’t always performing at their best, which can cost their teammates valuable wins. ImperialHal called for this addition all the way back in August, and with confirmation that KP changes are coming in Season 11, it’s possible the devs are considering a demotion feature. -Demotion -in game leaderboard -cosmetics for certain Pred ranking like 1st etc So many things can be added to make ranked better but its been stuck at the same place for a long time….. its time for a change— ImperialHal (@ImperialHal) August 26, 2021 The next issue for a lot of pros is Kings Canyon, and how “unenjoyable” the Ranked experience is on the map. According to Snip3down and ImperiaHal, the map is too small making it easy for opponents to third-party, and there’s an uneven distribution of loot between the various POIs. Apex is very hard to play right now ngl, ranked KC is extremely unenjoyable — FaZe Snip3down (@Snip3down) October 19, 2021 At this time, Respawn hasn’t directly confirmed that any changes are coming to Kings Canyon in Season 11. However, a dev did take to Twitter earlier in the season to find out what fixes the community wants, so they’re definitely aware of the situation. Finally, there’s the request to remove the Kraber from competitive, which has been a widespread discussion for a number of seasons. While there’s no doubt the weapon is fun to watch, pros claim its long-range one-shot capabilities just aren’t fair in a competitive environment. Overall, it’s obvious that a lot of pros don’t just want a few quality of life changes, they’re requesting an entire rework to Ranked. With Apex pro Rogue sharing #SaveApexRanked on Twitter throughout Season 10, and the community following suit, it’s clear there’s a huge demand for a Ranked overhaul. While Respawn has promised KP changes, pros will be looking for a lot more throughout Escape, so we’ll have to see if the dev team views these additions as a priority in Season 11.

  • Apex Legends pros desperate for Kings Canyon to be removed from Ranked in Season 14 – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros desperate for Kings Canyon to be removed from Ranked in Season 14 Respawn EntertainmentSeason 14 is still fresh, but the competitive community is already voicing their concerns about the new Kings Canyon map update and its place in Ranked rotation for split 1. Kings Canyon is the original map for Apex Legends, released alongside the game itself in February 2019. However, despite its nostalgic feel, it’s never been a map lauded for its competitive viability, compared to maps like World’s Edge or Olympus. So, when it was announced as the Ranked map for split 1 in Season 14, there was some trepidation, but promises of improved loot and greater land mass were signs of hope. So far though, some of the best players in the world are not convinced. Apex pros call for Ranked map change Starting with Apex’s most-watched pro player on Twitch, Imperial Hal managed to hit a 30,000 likes target joking that if he reached it, Respawn would change the map (the direct message is not real). Hal was joined by a chorus of other top players voicing similar frustrations. GUILD player MaTaFe called Kings Canyon “outdated for ranked play” – particularly with the increased damage from the first ring. 100 Thieves pro Onmuu said the map was “horrible” for ranked – something Cloud9 coach PVPX echoed in regards to the loot especially. Cloud9 player ZachMazer said that while he appreciated the devs efforts to make Kings Canyon more competitively viable, it just “doesn’t have a comfortable place in your game anymore.”

  • Apex Legends pros criticize ALGS spot rule as more orgs leave the game – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros criticize ALGS spot rule as more orgs leave the game EASome Apex Legends pros have been critical of how ALGS have handled league spot distribution as players from esports organizations that have pulled out of the esport put together rosters for the next split. With multiple esports orgs leaving Apex Legends, there are many ALGS spots that need to be filled. In some cases, spots have been retained by the org’s former players. According to the rules, a roster needs to retain only two of the players who competed in the last split to keep the spot. Players like TSM’s Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen have been critical of the rule, stating that some teams are taking advantage of it by registering one of these two players as a substitute only to retain the spot. ALGS spots may be retained if two players carry over between splits In a recent live stream, ImperialHal specifically called out Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith’s team, which also includes Paris ‘StayNaughty’ Gouzoulis, Trenton ‘lou’ Clements and Aidan ‘rocker” Grodin, the latter of whom as a substitute. He claimed that rocker gave his pro league spot to StayNaughty and stayed on the team as a sub to retain their place in the league. rocker and StayNaughty both played for Cloud9 until the North American organization withdrew from Apex Legends, in December 2022. rocker announced his retirement from competition a month later. “It’s so dumb how a brand-new team, these players have like never played all three together at one point, all insta-qualified for Pro League because rocker is their sub,” ImperialHal said. The Apex Legends Global Series held the qualifiers for the second split of competition in early February and allowed eight new teams into each of the five regional leagues. Fans will be able to see these qualified rosters and the teams that retained their former org’s spots face off as the league starts competition in Split 2 sometime in March.

  • Apex Legends pros complain that the game is “becoming Overwatch” – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros complain that the game is “becoming Overwatch” Respawn Entertainment / Blizzard EntertainmentAfter Respawn Entertainment revealed the patch notes for Season 7’s Fight Night Collection Event, pro Apex Legends players have taken to Twitter to voice their concerns that the game is leaning too heavily into Legend abilities. Character abilities have always been a core pillar of Respawn’s design philosophy surrounding Apex Legends. Each Legend has their own set of special abilities that set them apart from the others and the developer works hard to ensure all characters remain fun and balanced. Despite the impact abilities have on Apex, Respawn’s BR experience is simultaneously based around gunplay. Senior Game Design Daniel Klein laid this out on Reddit by saying “you can learn to be good at controlling the Flatline, and now you’re good at controlling the Flatline with any character.” With the Pathfinder-themed Fight Night event scheduled to kick off on January 5, Respawn released their patch notes for the update. After seeing what the developers have planned in terms of Legend ability tweaks, several Apex pros voiced their concerns on Twitter. Apex needs to stop buffing Legends abilities or I won’t even recognize what game I’m playing anymore — FaZe Snip3down (@Snip3down) January 1, 2021 TSM’s Eric ‘Snip3down’ Wrona criticized Respawn for buffing Legend abilities to an extreme level. The professional player voiced concerns that, if more ability buffs are added, he “won’t even recognize what game I’m playing anymore.” Several other pro Apex players responded to Snip3down’s tweet in agreement, TSM’s Phillip “ImperialHal” Dosen and Sentinels’ Nathan “retzi” Telen among them. Retzi joked that “we won’t be able to recognize it [Apex] through all the gas” referencing changes to Caustic that the community is unhappy with. Snip3down responded to ‘retzi’ clarifying that he’s agreeable to changes in the meta, but argued that “we can’t keep giving every character the Gibby treatment where we buff until you almost have to have him.” https://twitter.com/ceryal_/status/1345056757819744256 Fellow professional player Andrew ‘Ceryal’ Vargas tweeted out similar concerns. The pro and streamer noted that with all of the recent buffs to Legend abilities, “Apex is actually becoming overwatch at this rate.” Read More: Apex Legends Mirage is getting a hidden buff – Popular Apex streamer Diego ‘diegosaurs’ Raymond Navarrette responded to ceryal’s Tweet in agreement. He joked that “I feel like I’m [Soldier] 76 and everyone else is Roadhog,” referencing a severely imbalanced meta — something that Overwatch players have dealt with many times. While some responses to Ceryal and Snip3down’s posts were negative, the majority of the community seems to agree with their sentiments. While buffing Legends like Rampart might be seen as Respawn trying to make her more viable, players have not taken to the additional Caustic buffs that are in the pipeline. yeah except its getting to the point where i feel like im 76 and everyone else is roadhog playing these thick boys with fucking mastiffs lmfao — DIEGO (@diegosaurs) January 1, 2021 Ceryal’s comparison of Apex to Overwatch is in fact the opposite of the mindset Respawn has previously identified in terms of game balancing. In the same Season 7 Reddit thread where he discussed the Flatline, Klein also mentioned Overwatch specifically. “Overwatch is primarily an ability-based game, and Apex is primarily a gun-based game” he said in response to Legend balancing. After discussing those differences, Klein transitioned into his point regarding the Flatline and the importance of focusing the game around gun balance. It appears that the professional Apex scene thinks Respawn have strayed too far from their original design philosophy. The developer has not responded to either post at the time of writing, and it remains to be seen whether they will roll back any of the Fight Night balancing changes based on community feedback.

  • Apex Legends pros claim Wraith will be meta in Season 16 – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros claim Wraith will be meta in Season 16 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pros Logan ‘Knoqd’ Layou, Charles ‘Clane’ Lane, and Tyler ‘Dezignful’ Gardner have revealed that they think Wraith is going to be meta in Season 16, hinting changes are coming in the major update for the Interdimensional Skirmisher. Since the release of Apex Legends all the way back in 2019, Wraith has been one of the most popular characters on the roster. Currently, her pick rate sits at an impressive 9.8% and she’s seen as the perfect solo carry choice for climbing in Ranked. However, while chosen a lot in competitive play, she’s not considered a must-use Legend, but a conversation between a set of pros ahead of Season 16 suggests that’s going to change. Knoqd, Clane, and Dezignful revealed on stream that they think she’s going to become the top-tier meta pick next season, potentially hinting that Respawn has plans for Wraith in the update. Wraith may become top-tier for pro play in Season 16 During a recent stream, Knoqd was talking to Clane and Dezignful about the meta for pro play in Season 16. According to them, they think “everyone is going to play Wraith at the beginning at least for sure”, suggesting Respawn may have a significant set of changes lined up for the Interdimensional Skirmisher. This would be strange, as the devs are often cautious about buffing or improving a Legend with a strong pick rate. As one of the most popular Legends in the Outlands, Wraith certainly hasn’t been pushed out of the meta. However, it’s possible that rather than buffing Wraith in Season 16, Respawn is just planning on making fundamental changes to her base kit that they feel will keep her balanced. Continuing their conversation, the group reveal that they think the premier comp in Season 16 is going to be “Wraith, Valk, Caustic” or “Wraith, Maggie, Caustic”. Either way, as certain pros get access to the meta changes early, it’s possible this conversation has revealed that Wraith is lined up for major changes. We’ll have to wait and see whether they positively impact her place in the meta, but for the time being, it’s clear pros believe Wraith is going to have a big impact on the Season 16 meta.

  • Apex Legends pros claim the game is “imploding” as issues stack up – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros claim the game is “imploding” as issues stack up Electronic ArtsApex Legends pro-player Christopher ‘sweetdreams‘ Sexton and FURIA’s Nelson ‘Xera’ Medina spoke up about issues that make playing Apex Legends more frustrating than it needs to be. Various Apex Legends players have been reporting issues over the past week with the in-game audio not functioning properly, most importantly the gunfire and footsteps being absent. Content creator of Complexity, Clara, summed up her latest ranked experience in a Tweet, with 130,000 views at the of writing, that reads: “Cheaters, high ping players, high ping cheaters, NO AUDIO, and more.” Other content creators, pro and high profile players shared their own clips showcasing no footstep audio, no gunfire audio, and sometimes no tracers making it impossible to deduce from where you are getting shot. One of them was Sweetdreams who plays for the NRG esports team. Sweet tweeted out: “Apex Legends in 2023. This game is f**g imploding in almost every aspect,” followed by a clip where his squad gets fired at by enemies. Some of the said enemies fired bullets which left no traces as they were supposed to and some of their weapons were also completely mute, making it impossible to pinpoint where they are even getting fire from. Xera agrees with Sweet: “game is a joke” FURIA’s player Xera agreed with Sweet’s assessment replying to the clip with a simple: “[the] game’s a joke.” Xera also previously called out that the Charge Rifle needs to be changed. While there have historically been more oppressive weapons in the game, some argue that none offer so much reward for so little risk. TSM’s ImperialHal seems to agree with this sentiment, as he mocked the weapon in an exchange with FURIA’s Xera. XSET’s Sikezz Tweeted out “ranked Qs fully dead at 10 pm, I hope this is a wake-up call, fix the game,” to which Sweet replied, “hope they hear this man it’s really bad @PlayApex Sikezz said fix the game.” Other players also shared their frustrations with the state of the game in replies under the clip that was now seen more than 700,000 times. Respawn issued no statement at this time, we will have to wait and see if they address the player’s concerns with some kind of hotfix.

  • Apex Legends pros claim audio issues are worse than ever in Season 16 – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros claim audio issues are worse than ever in Season 16 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro Philip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen and Zach ‘Zachmazer’ Mazer have claimed audio problems have got “worse” since the Season 16 update went live. Season 16 of Apex Legends is well underway and the community is getting stuck into all the new content that was added. Whether it’s the TDM mode, Nemesis AR, or the revamped Legend classes, it’s clear Respawn didn’t hold back with the Revelry patch. Despite this, there are still underlying issues that are causing problems for players and pros alike, some of which appear to have got worse since Season 16 dropped. One of these is broken audio cues with both ImperialHal and Zachmazer complaining that their sound is just “cutting out” during matches. Season 16 has caused audio bugs to pop up in Apex Legends Taking to Twitter on February 14, TSM pro ImperialHal revealed that the new season would be “great” if the game’s “audio somehow didn’t get even worse”. According to him, the patch is causing “constant cuts in audio” and it’s impossible to keep track of a gunfight with “so many things happening”. While tracking your opponent with your eyes is key, when they’re out of vision you rely on audio cues to locate their position. So, when these are broken, it can be massively frustrating for competitors. Hal wasn’t alone with these issues, as fellow pro Zackmazer posted that the audio “constantly cutting out has been so strange”. For him, the main problems have been “silent gunshots”, which means vital information is being missed by players on account of a serious bug. As the season has just arrived, the community expected a few problems to surface, especially with so many major changes being implemented. Let’s hope Respawn can get on top of these issues and eliminate the audio problems in Apex for good with a future patch.

  • Apex Legends pros can’t believe Crypto isn’t being nerfed in new patch notes – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros can’t believe Crypto isn’t being nerfed in new patch notes Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pros and players are disappointed that Crypto hasn’t been nerfed in the Space Hunt event, especially after it was claimed he would be. At the start of Apex Legends Season 22, Respawn Entertainment finally showed some much-needed love to Crypto. The surveillance expert, who has been around since Season 3, has been incredibly underpowered for quite some time, and the new tweaks sought to change that. When he now uses his drone, Crypto goes invisible thanks to his Off the Grid ability. Despite making a noise while invisible, this change has frustrated many players and Respawn has already been urged to nerf him. Alliance player John ‘Hakis’ Håkansson said that the devs had realized Crypto’s invisibility was too strong and would be nerfing it. However, that change won’t be coming in the Space Hunt event, which has annoyed some pros. “No mozam nerf or crypto nerf,” Team Falcons star Philip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen tweeted, attaching a set of laughing face emojis. Hal’s analyst on Falcons, Priv4cy, was also a bit dumbfounded by the lack of a nerf. “No Mozam or Crypto nerf,” he added, including a crying face emoji. Priv4cy did also note that Crypto will “suffer” from the new Ultimate Accelerant changes. “Surely crypto will suffer from ult accel thing. Bang players are now forced to take the ult cooldown perk,” he continued. “Wished they’d nerf crypto so Valk would get more shine, the current crypto + 500m scans is just unpunished info,” Complexity coach kapremeee chimed in. “Didn’t expect much from a mid-season patch, but not touching the Mozams or Crypto’s invis doesn’t sit right with me after what we just saw at LAN,” one disappointed fan added. Other players stated that Crypto will remain a part of the pro meta moving forward and that he won’t be nerfed unless his pick rate picks up in casual play as well. So, we’ll just have to wait and see on that front.

  • Apex Legends pros call out ALGS for TSM favoritism & not spectating other teams – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros call out ALGS for TSM favoritism & not spectating other teams ALGS / RespawnA number of Apex Legends pros, including XSET’s Haris ‘hodsic’ Hodzic, have called out the ALGS for TSM favoritism and not spectating other pro players at the ongoing ALGS Split 1 Playoffs in London. The ALGS Split 1 Playoff kicked off in London on February 2. The event sees the best Apex Legends teams from around the world compete for their share of the $1 million prize pool. Day 1 wrapped with XSET impressing, dropping 16 kills in Round One and 14 kills in Round Two. However, following the conclusion of the day’s play, XSET’s hodsic was less than impressed after discovering the official ALGS stream hadn’t shown any of the team’s kills. Instead, it had focused on TSM – who finished Round One second with 9 kills as a unit. XSET hodsic hits out at ALGS TSM favoritism In a tweet late on February 2, hodsic criticized the ALGS for focusing too much on TSM, especially given how well he and his teammates were playing. “I genuinely understand that TSM gets a lot of coverage,” he said, “because they hold probably like 90% of the competitive Apex fanbase… but comments like these just make me sad. 16 kills game 1 and people never even saw them.” Attached were comments from viewers who, like hodsic himself, were disappointed at the lack of coverage that was given to XSET and their dominant performance. A number of Apex Legends pro dropped into offer their thoughts, with many echoing hodsic’s comments. 100 Thieves pro Alex ‘scuwry’ Scala said that, at the previous ALGS LAN event, his team were “shifted… to B stage because they wanted TSM on main the whole event”. Similarly, FURIA’s Nelson ‘Xera’ Medina, said: “now that you mention it, that’s so true LMAO I don’t think I saw your guys’ POV at all that game.” TSM’s own Head of Global Social, Dunc, said that he “felt real bad” to see XSET doing so well and not getting corresponding coverage on stream. It’s certainly a tough line for the ALGS to toe. If a large portion of the audience is tuning in to see their favorite TSM stars competing, then it makes sense to placate them and focus on TSM’s POV in-game. However, it’s also valid to say that in an ALGS tournament based on kills and placement, it’s probably pertinent to give coverage to the teams leading the way and boasting the most exciting gameplay. ALGS Playoff Split 1 will finish on February 5.

  • Apex Legends pros call for “worst” Season 14 change to be reversed – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros call for “worst” Season 14 change to be reversed TSM/NRG/Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro players Philip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen and Christopher ‘sweetdreams’ Sexton both believe the Season 14 ring damage changes have negatively impacted the game. Season 14 of Apex Legends introduced Vantage, the Kings Canyon map changes, and the huge level cap increase which have all been positively received by the community. However, as always, certain players and pros have criticized some of the additions that were added with Hunted. One of the changes that’s sparked a lot of debate is the increase in zone damage, making it harder to survive outside the ring even at the beginning of the match. Both sweetdreams and ImperialHal dislike this change, claiming it “doesn’t feel right” and feels “weird”. ImperialHal and sweet dislike Season 14 ring damage changes In the Hunted patch, Respawn decided to increase ring 1 damage from 2 to 3 hp/tick, making it equivalent to ring 2. This has made it significantly more punishing to be caught in ring 1 at the start of a match and forces players to start rotating earlier. ImperialHal isn’t a fan of the changes as it makes it impossible to spend time crafting after landing, especially if you’re looking to collect all the loot from a POI outside the next ring. As for sweet, he believes the ring changes are “too extreme” and thinks “it f**ks with the pacing of the game too much”. Topic starts at 0:43 So far, this zone damage increase has received a lot of criticism so it’ll be interesting to see if Respawn opts to reverse the changes. It’s certainly speeding up the time in which opposing squads run into each other, as players are forced to head into the ring earlier. However, as activities like crafting take an allocated amount of time, this zone change may be discouraging the community from using replicators early in a match.

  • Apex Legends pros call for big nerf to Gibraltar’s dome shield – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros call for big nerf to Gibraltar’s dome shield Respawn EntertainmentSome Apex Legends pros and competitive players have called for a major nerf to Gibraltar’s dome shield ability, arguing that it needs to given a set amount of health, so that it can be destroyed. Gibraltar started off life in Apex Legends as an under-used character, but has since become a meta pick in high-level play, and especially at the pro level, thanks to buffs over the years. From tweaks to his “broken” gun shield to suspicious unannounced dome shield buffs, it’s fair to say Gibraltar has gone under a fair few changes. However, some Apex Legends pros are now asking for nerfs to Gibraltar, specifically to his dome shield. Currently, Gibraltar’s dome shield lasts 12-seconds and blocks all incoming and outgoing bullets. On December 26, Apex Legends pro John ‘Hakis’ Håkansson put forward an old idea of making Gibby’s shield dome withstand 2000 damage before breaking. Read More: 5 things Apex Legends needs in 2022 – A concept video was created by modder Archtux, which Hakis shared to get people on board with the idea. “This but more like 2000 HP on the shield would be cool,” suggested Håkansson. This but more like 2000 HP on the shield would be cool https://t.co/UBawThW9eU — Alliance_Hakis (@Alliance_Hakis) December 26, 2021 Hakis continued the thread assuring the casual Apex players that the change wouldn’t affect them so much, where Gibby is still a fairly low pick: “This change would not affect casual players, it would only affect the game at the highest level.” Obey player decypher agreed, also suggesting there should be more health on the dome. The series of tweets sparked up a community discussion on Gibraltar’s state in the game. “For once, the pros are actually right,” one player responded. This is a much needed nerf for gibby. For once, the pros are actually right. Gibby has needed a nerf for many seasons but only gets buffed. This is a great nerf — ItstheFox_x (@XItsthefox) December 26, 2021 But, some players were not happy with the proposed changes at all. “Let’s make Gibby even worse in pubs, it’s not like everything in his kit hasn’t been nerfed already,” said one player. As yes let’s make Gibby even worse in pubs 🤡 Not like everything in his kit hasn’t been nerfed already 🙄 — Tired of life (@Ozymandiascries) December 26, 2021 “Thank god the devs don’t listen to the players, this is just an awful idea… absolutely terrible,” said another. Respawn devs are constantly listening to player feedback. However, they’ll want to take a deep dive and look at their own data before they make any changes.

  • Apex Legends pros angered by constant server crashes during ALGS “circus” – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros angered by constant server crashes during ALGS “circus” Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pros have publicly voiced their frustration over constant server crashes and bugs, complaining that it is ruining the “integrity” of the ALGS and turning it into a “circus”. Apex Legends’ ALGS has been suffering from repeated crashes over the past week, forcing organizers to replay matches. This is immensely frustrating for certain teams who have had some of their strongest performances completely chalked off. Not only that but with a series of bugs also affecting the integrity of the matches, this has sparked a huge amount of backlash from countless pros. One of which is 9Impu1se, a player for Fire Beavers who called the servers a “joke” and even criticized the ALGS for being more like a “circus” than esports. Sentinels‘ RKn also spoke out after a server crash resulted in their squad losing their “god spot” in an ALGS match. It’s no surprise that this left them extremely “titled” and likely affected their play for the rest of the day. OXG Esports’ IGL Hill even called out the “competitive integrity” of the ALGS and was clearly confused how a “full game crash in both weeks of ALGS” is even possible. With so much at stake and pros dedicating a massive amount of time to improve ready for ALGS matches, it’s obvious they do not think it’s acceptable that the game is in this state. We’ll have to see if Respawn take the steps to improve the stability of the servers and iron out the bugs, or they risk facing more backlash from teams in the league.

  • Apex Legends pros & streamers call on Respawn to fix cheating problem – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros & streamers call on Respawn to fix cheating problem Respawn EntertainmentA handful of popular Apex Legends streamers and pro players have complained that there are still too many cheaters getting away with hacking, despite Respawn’s best efforts. Since its release in February 2019, Apex Legends has cemented its place as one of the most popular battle royale games available. Despite its wild success, it has not come without its issues, with cheating having been a constant thorn in the developer’s side. Now many of the game’s hardcore players have called on the developers to do more to tackle the problem. Cheating is a rampant problem in many online games as some players will look for any way possible to reach the top of the ranks in a certain title. Although developers introduce countermeasures to reduce its impact on regular players, there are still certain cheaters that slip through the cracks, and some big names in Apex Legends think it has gone too far. NRG’s LuluLuvely was among the first to speak out about the problem, asking if cheaters were still being punished at all on Apex Legends. Her post was met with many fans and even pro players agreeing that cheating still seemed to be a major issue in the popular battle royale, particularly in ranked play. Liquid Mendo and C9 PVPX were among two of the pros that were not happy with the current anti-cheat system, revealing that manual reports are the main solution to banning hackers. “I always feel so bothersome, there needs to be a better way,” PYPX expressed, calling for Respawn to implement some changes to solve the ongoing problem. Respawn developer Josh Medina also responded to LuluLuvely, banning the specific cheater she was referring to. Apex Legends content creator and data miner iLootGames came to Respawn’s defense too, explaining that they’re not solely responsible for the anti-cheat system in the game. Easy Anti-Cheat, the system used in Apex Legends, is a popular anti-cheat service, but also one that hackers have experience trying to bypass. I think people think that the anti cheat is handled by respawn. Unfortunately thats not the case. Easy Anti-Cheat is what handles it and sadly it can be bypassed easily(for experienced developers) as can just about every other anti cheat. — iLootGames – ApexRanked.com (@iLootGames) March 14, 2020 Even if Respawn were to make improvements to their countermeasures, eradicating hackers from a game completely has proved to be a challenge for even the most established multiplayer titles such as CS:GO.

  • Apex Legends pros and streamers angry with weapon meta in Season 6 – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros and streamers angry with weapon meta in Season 6 Respawn EntertainmentContent creators and pro players have criticized changes in Apex Legends following the Season 6 update, which included significant shift to the battle royale’s weapon meta. Plenty of fresh Apex Legends content has been added following Season 6’s update, on August 17. It introduced more map changes, a new Legend, Rampart, and even a crafting system. However, many of the game’s top personalities have already voiced their criticism over the current state of Season 6, taking issue with weapon balancing and audio, in particular. Apex players frustrated with Season 6 meta The latest season saw the Devotion LMG or ‘Devo’ added to the floor loot in Apex Legends, making it much easier for players to find in-game. The weapon’s high fire-rate potential makes it one of the best guns in the game and now with reduced time-to-kill, almost every squad will be looking to get their hands on one. NRG Lulu Apex Legends content creator, LuluLuvely, was among the few to share frustrations about the current meta, calling on Respawn to add the Devo back in the Care Packages instead. Now that my day 1 rage is out of the way here are my thoughts about Apex season 6. Season 6 impression: The gun meta is complete trash now, every gun is so brain dead with no recoil with insane amount of damage, R301, Scout, Volt, Devo, havoc and fucking buffing burst weapons??? Skill gap doesn’t even exist anymore — ImperialHal (@ImperialHal) August 19, 2020 Snip3down Halo veteran snip3down voiced his criticism as well, claiming that, despite being a fan of some of the new changes, the reduction of armor and health from 200 to 175 was hurting the game. He also pointed out a bug where weapons such as the Volt and Devotion have reduced audio volume, which could lead to some confusing gunfights. All of this on top of weapons like the volt and devotion having 0 sound most of the time causes issues in fights constantly. Devo should not be a floor weapon at all, and may as well go back in the care package, take the R99 out and replace it with devo IMO — FaZe Snip3down (@Snip3down) August 19, 2020 CLG ImMadness CLG pro ImMadness shared a supposed conversation with the Apex Legends twitter account, asking for 10,000 retweets to address the weapon and armor tuning. However, although there were concerns over the legitimacy of the screenshot, the retweet target was hit within hours, suggesting that plenty of players feel similarly about the latest changes. • Apex Legends pros Ace & Mohr left furious after bizarre “invincible” bug – Dexerto

Apex Legends pros Ace & Mohr left furious after bizarre “invincible” bug NRG’s Apex Legends pro squad of Brandon ‘Ace’ Winn, Marshall ‘Mohr’ Mohr, and Joseph ‘Frexs’ Sanchez were stunned after coming across a series of bugs that ultimately led to a bizarre ‘invincibility’ glitch. The competitive teams are all preparing for the start of 2020’s Apex Legends Global Series, and NRG have a bit more grinding to do to refine their play with newcomer Frexs after the sudden retirement of Colby ‘dizzy’ Meadows. But practice was cut short in a match of the Apex Games after Mohr was wedged in the corner of the room. He had taken a Wraith Portal back from looting, but it seems like the character model got irreversibly stuck on his way back. A tried-and-true method for stuck battle royale players has been to knock yourself down and relying on a teammate to pick you back up, but that didn’t work either. Mohr was taken aback by the glitch since his Gibraltar wasn’t bleeding out, as intended in the game. So not only was he cemented in place in the corner, he couldn’t get revived from his squadmates, and was invincible to the effects of bleeding out. Soon after, the team realized that Mohr’s character could actually die; though that was little consolation since the final circles didn’t have a Respawn Beacon in it. The trifecta of bad tidings meant that a favorable game quickly turned into a nightmare scenario since even if he had been successfully killed, there wasn’t a chance to get back to a healthy three-man squad. Scrimming against some of the best teams in the Apex landscape, the glitches made it hard for NRG to practice their mid-late game approach in the match. After letting their botched situation sink in, Mohr was astonished of the bug, quipping that Apex really was “esports ready.” The critique should be noted though, since Apex players have a long list of game-breaking or unfathomable bugs appear in their matches that would be detrimental in an official competitive match. With the headlining Global Series kicking off later in 2020, it’ll be interesting to see what actions Respawn takes to make sure the game runs smoothly for the league.

  • Apex Legends promises “free stuff” for code:net errors after giving a free Heirloom – Dexerto

Apex Legends promises “free stuff” for code:net errors after giving a free Heirloom Respawn EntertainmentRespawn has said they will be giving out “free stuff” to Apex Legends players affected by the frustrating connection bugs, usually met with a ‘code:net’ error, preventing them from playing at all. These issues have been particularly prevalent in Season 8, affecting players on all platforms. As a result, many players were unable to play on their main accounts, and had to use alt-accounts to get access. The most common error code is ‘code:net’ – but this isn’t always the case. What is code:net? First, it’s important to clarify what code:net is. Contrary to popular belief, it is not a single error, but rather a generic error code for when an issue occurs and you are disconnected from the server. As Chad Grenier, Apex Legends Game Director explains: “We don’t fix code:net, we fix the issues that cause it.” Respawn gives free Heirloom and Apex coins Dexerto has confirmed that at least one player who was seriously affected by the login errors was sent 150 Heirloom shards (enough for one Heirloom) and 15,000 Apex coins. To buy the equivalent number of coins would cost roughly $100. This player wasn’t able to play on their main account for weeks, but once Respawn had their account back up and running, they credited it with the free items. Read More: Apex Legends buffs and nerfs for Season 9 – This was not handed out to the community at large affected by these issues, however. Given the volume of players experiencing similar problems, there has been some confusion about whether more players will be receiving compensation. Apex players to get “free stuff” On Twitter, Grenier has said that their first priority is to fix the issues, and then, players will be sent “free stuff.” It’s unknown if the free stuff will amount to the same compensation that this individual was sent (150 shards & 15,000 AC). Calm down, we plan to do a make good. We are still actively working on this issue. Priority 1 is getting the accounts back up, priority 2 get you some free stuff. — Chad Grenier (@ChadGrenier) March 24, 2021 The player who received compensation provided evidence to Dexerto that it was legitimate, and was a result of code:net errors specifically: “Game would load for like a minute but I could never see or make it to the lobby. Then would always get Code Net.” Read More: Respawn cracks down on Apex Legends DDoSers – This is a situation that many other players have found themselves in, but it’s unknown if any other individual players have received this level of compensation – if they have been compensated at all. • Apex Legends promises changes for colorblind players – Dexerto

Apex Legends promises changes for colorblind players Respawn/EAApex Legends devs Respawn Entertainment have confirmed that they’ll be looking into more changes to the colorblind settings after players voiced their concerns about how they currently work. Aside from the brand new legends, map changes, new weapons, and more, each Apex Legends update usually comes with quite a few quality of life changes too. These smaller updates can make a big difference to players, and have, in the past, included things like making the image of an item easier to see or even updating the lighting in certain buildings so players can’t hide in the shadows. One change that players have constantly been pushing for, though, revolves around the colorblind setting in Apex. Respawn have been asking for feedback from the get-go, and it looks like more changes are coming. Apex Legends fan TootTheRoot flagged a potential change to Crypto’s drone. Currently, when the drone scans another player, the show up as red on the screen. however, as the Redditor pointed out, that can be quite difficult for colorblind players like themself. TootTheRoot suggested changing the color from red, to the color that the colorblind setting currently shows when you aim in with a digi-threat scope attached to a weapon. Ultimately, the suggestion attracted the attention of Respawn. Jason Garza, Respawn’s community coordinator, responded and said it would be passed on.”We’re always looking for this type of feedback so yes, 100% agree this should get updated. I’ll share this with the team and see if can do something about this,” they commented. Comment byu/TootTheRoot from discussion inapexlegends The change would be a big boost to colorblind players, as the current color set can prevent them from playing as Crypto and Bloodhound, which is a hindrance given how powerful the latter is currently. As for when we might see these changes in-game, Season 9 isn’t all that far away but it probably won’t ship as a part of that. It’ll likely come later down the line, but at least Respawn are addressing it.

  • Apex Legends prodigy goes viral after iiTzTimmy accuses him of cheating – Dexerto

Apex Legends prodigy goes viral after iiTzTimmy accuses him of cheating RespawnTimothy “iiTzTimmy” An “helps” an Apex Legends player go viral by calling them a cheater after the latter demonstrates incredible movement in this 1v1. For some time now, Apex Legends has found itself in a crisis involving Steam configs. This issue only spiraled in severity recently as players figured out ways to borderline cheat in-game with features like instant armor swapping, zero recoil, and more. With the community outcry very high, Respawn Entertainment pushed through a surprise patch. The patch removed the use of the configs, which was celebrated by the community, rightfully so. Despite the removal, it’s still left some unease in the community, especially with DSG player iiTzTimmy. Apex Legends player’s insane movement labeled as cheating iiTzTimmy found himself in a 1v1 in R5Reloaded, a modded version of Apex Legends meant to help players improve their movement and gameplay. After losing to his opponent, Movementless, iiTzTimmy could only react by saying that he’s “using actual configs,” after Movementless ran circles around the streamer. The rest of the clip shows Movementless’ incredible movement, with the right side of the screen showing off his high-paced keyboard clacking. Movementless shared this clip to various Apex Legends-related subreddits. Depending on which one you’re on, the replies are vastly different. For example, the more “casual” side of the community corroborates that he’s cheating, where he’s had to defend himself quite a bit. The irony here is despite playing on a modded version of Apex Legends, configs are still banned, which one viewer pointed out. “This is R5Reloaded, a modded Apex client with 1v1 servers with the option to play input-locked matchmaking where CFGs have been in it since almost the start. It is impossible to cheat movement like this,” one viewer replied. Of course, if there were any doubt, simply looking at his input on the right side should clear that up.

  • Apex Legends probably won’t be getting a new map in Season 6 after all – Dexerto

Apex Legends probably won’t be getting a new map in Season 6 after all Respawn EntertainmentIt looks like Apex Legends won’t be getting a new battle royale map in Season 6 after all, according to a new email sent around by Respawn that seems to have debunked Olympus being added in the upcoming August 18 update. Apex Legends rumors have been rife leading up to the battle royale’s sixth season. The main one, however, has been surrounding one thing — Respawn would finally be adding an all-new map, “Olympus,” to the game next update. Unfortunately, it looks like those rumors may have been a little off-base. That is, at least, according to a new Apex Legends Season 6 teaser email sent to eager fans on Wednesday, August 12. New Apex Legends map unlikely for Season 6 The email, branded as a promotional teaser for the sixth season, went into detail on all the new features coming to Apex Legends. One paragraph stood out; it mentioned Rampart, the Volt energy SMG, and a “revamped map.” That’s right, Respawn is teasing Apex fans with the chance to “explore a revamped map”. Nothing about storming into the Olympus cityscape, or adventuring through the battle royale’s all-new Season 6 map. Just a “revamp.” Still holding out hope for a new map? pic.twitter.com/k6tR95zXRa — iLootGames – ApexRanked.com (@iLootGames) August 13, 2020 Now, the developers could be holding back the big Olympus reveal for closer to the Tuesday, August 18 release date, but it’s unlikely. The new Legend, gun, and battle pass plans have all been unveiled. Map plans would have come then too. Olympus, or any other map for that matter, not coming in Season 6 does seem to line up with what the Apex Legends backend code has been telling us too. According to ILootGames, there’s “only one reference to a new map in the files,” and even that may be a carryover from scrapped code Respawn has since binned. Olympus likely delayed, not canceled The idea Apex Legends was barrelling towards its third map release wasn’t a silly one either; don’t get too down if you bought into the hype. Season 5 had a huge whack of teasers for the new world, so it made perfect sense. What seems likely is Olympus had originally been a part of the Season 6 plans, but has been put on the back burner for now, pending a proper release a little later down the line. The Respawn development team is all working from home at the moment, for obvious reasons. That means it may just not have been feasible to pull off an entire map release without some major programming hiccups along the way. As for the upcoming “map revamp” Respawn touched on in their August 12 email, there’s barely any details. Apex Legends insiders are suggesting it will be World’s Edge getting a touch-up, but nothing has been confirmed. Apex Legends may not be heading off-world for the second time in its history just yet, but there’s still plenty to be excited about in next week’s Season 6 update. The Volt SMG is finally being released, turret-wielding Rampart will join the Apex roster as the 14th legend, and Respawn have also confirmed — as expected these days — there will be another stacked battle pass. There’s plenty on the way!

  • Apex Legends pro warns against esports career & reveals “poverty line” income – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro warns against esports career & reveals “poverty line” income Joe Brady (@joebradyphoto)/ALGSVeteran Apex Legends esports professional player Will ‘TeQ’ Starck put up a lengthy post detailing why people should think twice about competitive gaming as a career and showcased his overall earnings. Esports can look like a dream job for some as players can be paid thousands of dollars to play games like Apex Legends and compete in tournaments with huge prize pools worldwide. But, just like traditional sports, most of those trying to play in professional esports make little money compared to top-end talent even if they stream and win the occasional tournament. Longtime Apex Legends pro Will ‘TeQ’ Starck posted a warning to people testing the professional waters to have a backup plan and used his finances as an example. TeQ said that he had made about $70,000, which includes his salary from when he played for FURIA and Sentinels, tournament winnings, and streaming income, across his four-year career. “That’s an average of around ~$1500/month, which would put me at the poverty line in America if it was my only job,” the pro explained. TeQ is an engineer by day and still competes in the ALGS North American Pro League. He was last signed with Sentinels and currently competes on the unsigned team Meat Lovers. The player said he has considered leaving his day job, but is glad he maintained it as he knows former pros who are having trouble finding careers after going “all in” on esports early in life. “You do not want to be stuck in the loop of door-dashing, fast food, retail, etc. For those who are trying to achieve greatness in this space, be realistic with yourself & don’t drop everything,” TeQ said. Esports on the top end is still in a risky space as investments into the industry has slowed massively since its peak, and multiple orgs have tightened their belts in terms of the amount of teams they have signed and player salaries. The highest-paid pros also still have to deal with uneven contracts, labor disputes, and post-retirement careers as most players flame out of competitive video games in their late 20’s and still have bills to pay. However, even during the height of Apex Legends esports, a smaller esport when compared to giants like Call of Duty, League of Legends, and Counter-Strike, paid opportunities from organizations were not incredibly lucrative.

  • Apex Legends pro wants Respawn to address “unnecessary” particle effects – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro wants Respawn to address “unnecessary” particle effects Respawn EntertainmentCloud9 pro Jamison ‘PVPX’ Moore is asking Respawn Entertainment to look into the particle effects in Apex Legends that have been shown to obscure players’ vision to a punishing degree. Since the release of Apex Legends in 2019, players have noticed that lingering audio and visual effects in the game can sometimes clutter the screen and make the gameplay experience suffer as a result. While the devs have mostly done away with the biggest offenders, there are still some annoyances to address like the dust particles and bullet interactions that can get tricky to play around. “$50 to whoever can guess the character I’m shooting at,” PVPX said in reference to a screenshot that showed a plume of dust with seemingly no one on the screen. $50 if you can tell me who I’m shooting at video version pic.twitter.com/pNDwBXITEN — FURIA Jxmo (@Jxmo_1) March 30, 2021 Soon after, he followed up with a video showing an opponent in close-range who soon disappeared from sight after bullet interactions with a nearby boulder created a small cloud of effects in front of the player. “The fact that barely anyone can guess the right character speaks volumes about the unnecessary particle clutter during gunfights,” he said. He asked Respawn entertainment producer Josh ‘lowkeydbjosh’ Medina if it was “feasible to add a setting to remove this dust/smoke effect from the gunshots & rocks getting hit” in hopes of dealing with the problem. It’s not a detrimental part of Apex but like muzzle flash and Evo Shield’s upgrade animation, these are visual cues that players would rather have toned down. In those cases, shooting a weapon would create distracting muzzle flashes that would make it hard to see the thing you were supposed to be targeting in the first place. Respawn nerfed that effect around March 2019 after waves of player requests flooded in about reducing the blinding effects. It’s unclear if the studio will be looking to tone down the particle effects that boulders and such can create in Apex Legends, but there are players who wouldn’t mind seeing a change implemented to clear up the battlefield.

  • Apex Legends pro Verhulst explains why pubs are better than “boring” ranked – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro Verhulst explains why pubs are better than “boring” ranked EA / Respawn EntertainmentTSM Apex Legends pro Evan ‘Verhulst’ Verhulst isn’t the biggest fan of the ranked battle royale experience, preferring to tear it up in casual ‘pubs’ instead. However there are merits to the two modes for improving at various things, he explained. Apex Legends’ ranked system is a divisive topic in the community. Despite numerous changes implemented by Respawn to make it fair, as well as put emphasis on good placement rather than kill-hunting, it still receives a mixed bag of responses from players. Pubs in Apex Legends aren’t immune to criticism either, but it is the preferred hangout of someone like Verhulst, TSM’s star controller player. Asked if he preferred ranked or pubs on stream, he said he much preferred the casual game. Before viewers get too cynical about him being a pro and wiping the floor with those in the unranked matches, Verhulst gave a simple explanation as to why. “I think ranked is so boring,” he said. “I only play ranked because it’s the only way you can learn positioning and zones. Pubs is pure mechanics and ranked teaches you teamwork [but] I think pubs are way more fun than ranked.” There is a world where ranked is better: “The only reason I’d have more fun playing ranked than pubs is when you’re playing with other people so you can talk to them. If you’re really sweaty though, it’s hard to talk anyways.” However, for the most part, the TSM controller demon prefers to refine that fine aim in the casual matches before decimating the ranked ladder as well as ALGS. It’s not to say he despises the ranked system and won’t play it — he’ll often queue up with friends and teammates to grind out some RP. If he’s playing by himself though, you won’t catch him solo queuing ranked too often.

  • Apex Legends pro team claims insane world record in ranked play – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro team claims insane world record in ranked play EAMembers of Rogue esports might’ve have set a new world record in Apex Legends by dropping a 43 kill game, in the Apex Predator rank no less. The new ranked mode in Apex Legends allows players to climb the ranks all the way from the lowly Bronze to the pinnacle that is Apex Predator. As you go up, the skill level of players also increases which is what makes seeing such a high kill game so impressive. Rogue’s HusKers, Sweetdreams, and Dropped combined for 43 kills, which is off three kills from the official world record in Apex Legends, but considering this is the highest rank possible, it’s still arguably a bigger deal. Apex Legends only sports 60 players a game and with three of them being your own squad, killing 43 out of 57 is just not something you see every day. World record for an Apex Predator ranked game? pic.twitter.com/IeYEBnZ1y0 — Rogue HusKers (@HusKerrs) July 30, 2019 With no other teams stepping forward showing their kills records in ranked play, it’s safe to assume this is a record, very possibly being the world record. Season 2 introduced the new ranked play that gave the more competitive players a chance to flex their muscles and it’s good to see them already taking full advantage of it. For those curious about the entire match, HusKers shared that in a tweet. A new Apex Legends tournament was revealed on July 30 so we can expect to see Rogue throw their hat into the ring once again and prove this was no fluke. The tournament will pit them against fellow pro players and teams so matching this feat does seem unlikely, but not impossible. It kicks off September 13 so there’s still plenty of time for players to hone their skills and wipe lobbies like we’ve seen Rogue do. Teams have to be confirmed by September 2 so make sure you have everything finalized with your friends going into this.

Apex Legends pro SweetDreams claims Triple Take has “aimbot” for controller players Respawn Entertainment/SweetDreamsApex Legends pro Christopher ‘sweetdreams’ Sexton thinks the Triple Take has “aimbot” at close range for controller players. When it comes to long-range rifles in Apex Legends, there are great options to choose from that can all deal lethal amounts of damage from afar. Whether it’s the 30-30 Repeater with its quick charge-up time, or the Sentinel if you’re looking for maximum power at long-range. One option that seems to be getting overlooked in Season 14 is the Triple Take, with a lot of the community even calling on Respawn to buff the time it takes for the gun’s bullets to center. Well, according to sweetdreams, controller players are using the weapon wrong and should be making the most of its “aimbot” accuracy at close quarters. Sweet explains why controller players should use Triple Take During a recent stream, sweetdreams dove down onto Storm Point’s Launch Pad POI and realized he was surrounded by enemies. Finding a Triple Take, he then proceeded to hit nonstop shots at close-range with the weapon, dishing out lethal amounts of damage. After winning the gunfight, the pro then explained that the Triple Take “isn’t that bad” on controller despite what so many people think. In his opinion, it basically has “aimbot” at close-range thanks to aim assist and the rifle’s bullet spread when it’s not fully charged. Of course, on MnK, the Triple Take is significantly harder to use as you’re just relying on your own skill accuracy to land shots. However, on a controller, the rifle requires very little precision thanks to its huge bullet spread, making it easy to rack up damage. So, next time you drop into the Outlands and find a Triple Take, think of it as more a shotgun than a rifle on controller.

  • Apex Legends pro sweet hits Predator rank with no kills to “prove how bad” Ranked is – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro sweet hits Predator rank with no kills to “prove how bad” Ranked is ALGSThe new season of Apex Legends, along with the new Ranked system, has only just started – but some high-level players are already convinced it’s broken, and NRG pro Christopher ‘sweetdreams’ Sexton set out to prove it. The new Ranked system in Season 17 includes a hidden MMR for matchmaking, Ladder Points replacing Ranked Points, and the removal of seasonal splits. Respawn also adjusted how scoring works, and the entry cost for matches. These changes were made with good intentions, of course, as an attempt to improve upon the flaws of the existing system. But, within less than 24 hours, top Ranked players are not convinced. NRG pro player sweet has now completed a no-kills, no-damage challenge – and reached Predator. Predator rank with no guns? After the new season started, sweet said that he was planning a no-gun challenge in Ranked, with the plan to ultimately reach Predator – the highest rank possible. “Debating on doing a no weapon challenge no shooting to pred right now to prove how bad the system is,” he said. Sure enough, he carried out the challenge on stream, completing it in a single session of playing. Sweet’s proposition to Respawn, to solve the problem, is to increase the entry cost at higher ranks. In Season 17, entry costs are flat across every rank. In order to achieve the challenge, sweet had to hide, or what’s called “ratting” for the majority of matches. This meant he managed to even win five of the 50 games he played, with top-five finishes in the rest. Some pointed out though that the new system is still fresh, with Season 17 launched on May 9, and to give it more time to settle. “It hasn’t even been 24 hours of the new system let’s chill,” one fan commented. This is the inherent challenge Respawn faces though in the battle royale mode; balancing kills and assist points with placement in the match. If a player gets 10 kills but is eliminated in 15th, should they rank up more than a player with one kill who finishes first? This is an ongoing debate, but sweet, and other streamers too, feel the balance is not right yet.

  • Apex Legends pro spills details on new anti-cheat system – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro spills details on new anti-cheat system Respawn/EAApex Legends might soon have a way to combat cheaters after Complexity’s professional players noted that they’re planning to roll out two-factor authentication at some point in the future. Like much every other popular multiplayer title, Apex Legends has had to deal with cheaters online – be they using aimbots, god mode, or any other hack that you can think of it to get a leg up. Respawn Entertainment has done a pretty stellar job in rolling out bans for players who have been convicted of cheating and they have even put job searches out for programmers to develop their anti-cheat team. Though, they might soon be stepping their fight against the cheaters up to another level. During their May 17 stream, Complexity’s Apex Legends team noted that the developers had teased that they would be rolling out two-factor authentication as an anti-cheat feature during a professional player playtest event. “Yeah, they said they were going to come out with two-factor authentication,” the players said. “It’s going to help a lot on the casual cheaters, not the hardcore f**king turds.” Complexity’s squad also noted that they don’t the current anti-cheat has banned many players, with a lot of the bans coming manually. The introduction of two-factor authentication would not doubt scare off some would-be cheaters seeing as they’d have to hand over a phone number, but as always, anyone who is desperate to cheat would be able to find a way around the hurdle presented by 2FA. However, when Respawn will actually roll out the feature still very much remains to be seen – especially seeing as it didn’t make the cut for their recent season five update on May 12. That update saw the release of Loba as a new legend, a huge overhaul to the Kings Canyon map, as well as the all-new quests feature being added to the battle royale.

  • Apex Legends pro Snip3down suggests audio change to counter third party pushes – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro Snip3down suggests audio change to counter third party pushes Instagram: @snip3down/Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro Eric ‘Snip3down’ Wrona has suggested an audio change to help slow down thirty party rotations and pushes. While there are a variety of contentious topics in the Apex Legends community, nothing is spoken about more than third-partying, as it’s something players face in nearly every match. When taking on an enemy squad in a fair fight, it’s incredibly frustrating for another group to come and spoil the party, taking you down while you’re weak. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the battle royale format, it’s a problem that’s nearly impossible to fix completely. However, Apex pro Snip3down believes he’s found the solution to at least slow down third parties rotating to a gunfight. Apex Legends audio change could slow down third parties When it comes to solving the third-party issue, very few solutions have been implemented as it’s nearly impossible to prevent. However, taking to Twitter on September 29, Snip3down revealed his idea of a possible change to slow down third-party pushes. His concept involves changing the audio of gunshots depending on which ammo is being used by a player, with sniper ammo being the loudest and light ammo being the quietest. This would also dictate how far away players can hear the different ammo types, making it harder for third parties to scout gunfights if a squad is using light weaponry. While this certainly wouldn’t solve the problem, it would slow down rotations and add a level of counterplay. Just thought of this but what if ammo type determined how far away you could hear gunshots? Aka sniper ammo is the loudest and light ammo is the quietest, could potentially help with the quickness of third parties. — FaZe Snip3down (@Snip3down) September 29, 2021 In the game’s current state, scouting gunfights in the distance and locating a set of enemies is easy as the audio is so clear. Snip3down’s change would make it harder for third parties to crash ongoing gunfights and only allow them to hear the action if they’re close enough. Of course, this would be a huge addition to the game’s audio and likely wouldn’t be a simple system to implement, but it would have a massively positive impact on Apex’s gameplay. Although Snip3down’s idea may never be implemented into the title, it’s great to see pros pitching concepts that have the potential to improve the game for everyone.

  • Apex Legends pro Snip3down explains why Seer is “broken” already – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro Snip3down explains why Seer is “broken” already @Snip3down / Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Season 10 is finally here, which means players have been busy getting to grips with Seer – the game’s latest Legend. However, a number of pro players believe the new Recon character is broken. Apex Legends Season 10: Emergence has introduced plenty of new content for fans to delve into. While many players will still be getting to grips with the devastatingly powerful Rampage LMG and landing at the new POIs, the most eagerly awaited addition is that of Seer. This new Legend comes kitted out with micro-drones that enable him to locate and ambush his enemies. Gaining intel on enemy positions has always been integral in any battle royale game, but Seer takes this to the next level. Despite only just being released, TSM Snip3down believes Seer is overpowered. TSM Snip3down’s thoughts on Seer The main area of concern comes from Seer’s Tactical Ability, which enables players to summon micro-drones that emit a blast that interrupts and reveals enemies. If that wasn’t enough, his Passive ability can also mark enemy squads behind walls and reveal them to all allied squad members. “Why would you see that? That should be just a one…oh my god, that’s a joke,” said TSM Snip3down as his team converged on the revealed player. “All I know is that I have a Prowler and wallhacks x10.” Snip3down then proceeded to use Seer’s tactical to effortlessly tag enemies and use this information to pick up five kills with relative ease. “It’s literally a Crypto drone without having to use a Crypto drone. I could write a five-page Google doc right now on why this character is broken. Well, I find my new main I guess,” said Snip3down. The TSM pro also noted how quick Seer’s Ultimate charges compared to other Legends in the game, which provides players with even more enemy information. When asked how valuable Seer is to current team comps Snip3down stated “I can literally spin in a circle and have a Crypto drone telling me if there are enemies in the location and how many teams.” Whether Respawn will nerf Seer in an upcoming patch remains to be seen, but for now, you’ll likely want to run this OP Recon character if you wish to get an advantage over your foes.

  • Apex Legends pro Snip3down creates new “support” character to counter Seer – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro Snip3down creates new “support” character to counter Seer Respawn Entertainment/TSMApex Legends pro Eric ‘Snip3down’ Wrona has proposed that Respawn should add a support character in Season 11 to counter Seer, and he’s even explained what abilities the Legend should have. Season 10 of Apex Legends has finally arrived and Respawn certainly hasn’t held back on the exciting additions to the game. Although players are enjoying the lethal damage of the Rampage LMG and the huge set of changes to the World’s Edge map, it’s the brand new Legend that’s been getting most of the attention. While Seer’s kit and abilities are incredibly fun to use, a lot of the community think the Ambush Master is a little overpowered in his current state. Well, Apex pro player Snip3down believes he’s come up with the solution and it involves adding a brand new support Legend in Season 11. Snip3down designs Season 11 Legend to counter Seer While Snip3down has labeled Seer as overpowered and broken, he took to Twitter on August 6 with a solution that he thinks Respawn should implement in Season 11. According to him, as there are no counters to the Ambush Master in the game at the moment, a brand new support character that’s capable of blocking stuns, scans, and slows would be a great addition to the game. As the character’s Tactical ability would be an AOE prevention of scans, it would thwart Bloodhound and Seer’s ability to locate the exact position of a team in every scenario. This would certainly shake up the meta, and potentially force Recon Legends to play more cautiously, as they wouldn’t always have all the available information. The next character in Apex should have an ability like a debuff, a new cool support character. Basically a Q that is AOE that removes all stuns/scans/slows. Would be a really good balance for the current character meta imo since there is no counters — FaZe Snip3down (@Snip3down) August 6, 2021 Apex is certainly lacking in Support Legends, with Loba and Lifeline being the only two on the roster. It’s possible Respawn use Season 11 to expand the support pool and put a stop to the Recon characters taking over the meta. However, although Snip3down’s design is great in theory, the devs have to be careful about adding a Legend that hard counters so many abilities that are already in the game. We’ll have to wait and see if Respawn takes any inspiration from Snip3down’s tweet and adds a support character in Season 11 that can put a stop to the scans and heartbeat sensors taking over the Apex Games.

  • Apex Legends pro Snip3down calls for huge buff to Bangalore’s smokes – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro Snip3down calls for huge buff to Bangalore’s smokes Respawn Entertainment/TSMApex Legends pro Eric ‘Snipe3down’ Wrona has proposed that Respawn buff Bangalore’s smokes so they can act as a counter to Recon characters like Seer and Bloodhound. Season 10 of Apex Legends has finally arrived and while the majority of players are still concerned about the power level of the new Legend Seer, others are thinking outside of the box and suggesting new ways of countering scan abilities. One person with some grand ideas is Snip3down, who’s proposed a buff to Bangalore that would give the Professional Soldier the upper hand while inside her own smokes. According to him, in her current state, it often feels like the enemies have the advantage when you’re seeking cover in your own smokes, especially with so many Recon Legends being the meta picks. Snip3down proposes Bangalore buff to counter Recon Legends Taking to Twitter on August 17, Snip3down pointed out the issues with Bangalore’s smokes and voiced that it often feels like her tactical is a detriment to herself in gunfights. With so many scans and the Digital Threat scope being widely available in the late game, he explained how easy it is for players to see you inside the smokes. As a solution, Snip3down has proposed that Bangalore’s tactical nullifies her from being scanned, making it an anti-recon ability. This would allow the Professional Soldier to maneuver and reposition while in her smoke, without the threat of being located immediately. Bangalore smokes need to nullify being scanned, right now she’s only hurting herself since it seems like they’ll always see you but you can’t see anything — FaZe Snip3down (@Snip3down) August 17, 2021 Not only would Snip3down’s buff idea push Bangalore’s into a higher tier, but it would also offer players a solution to the huge amount of scan abilities being used in every gunfight. With Seer and Bloodhound running rampant across Apex in the current meta, a nullifying smoke could make all the difference, especially when attempting to reposition as a squad. Whether Respawn takes note of this idea is yet to be seen, but outside of nerfing each of the characters with scan abilities, this could be the perfect solution.

  • Apex Legends pro Snip3down argues MnK is just as strong as controller in ALGS – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro Snip3down argues MnK is just as strong as controller in ALGS Respawn Entertainment/Twitch: Snip3downApex Legends pro player Eric ‘Snip3down’ Wrona has argued that controller doesn’t dominate the ALGS and that Mouse and Keyboard still has its place. Since the release of Apex Legends, there’s been a debate about whether MnK or controller is better at the top level of play. While MnK can pull off insane movement mechanics, controller players have access to aim assist making it easier to land shots, especially at close-range. This accuracy increase has pushed a lot of pros to make the switch to controller. One of which is TSM’s Philip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen who has been extremely vocal about how OP he believes aim assist can be, pulling off countless highlight reel plays and even winning the recent ALGS finals on controller. Well, FaZe’s Snip3down has weighed in on the controller debate, arguing that based on stats from the recent ALGS finals, it’s clear MnK still has its place in the Apex pro scene. Snip3down argues controller doesn’t dominate MnK in ALGS Taking to Twitter on February 7, Snip3down argued that the recent ALGS finals are proof that MnK still has a place in the pro scene and the lack of faith in the peripheral is just a “confidence issue at this point”. This comes as a reaction to the constant calls for aim assist nerfs over the last few months, with certain pros even going as far as to say that MnK is not worth using over controller. Snip3down’s argument rests on the stats from the London LAN, which showed that seven of the top 10 kill leaders were using a keyboard and mouse. Not only that, the top three spots on the list are all taken up by MnK players. It’s only ImperialHal in fourth who is the first controller user on the list, with Kiloposz, sweet, and YukaF all above him. For Snip3down, “controller is strong” for running at people in Ranked games but for the ALGS it’s a “different story and people are mentally psyching themselves out”. It’s clear he thinks MnK still has a place on the pro stage and for now, the peripheral is still performing well in the hands of talented players.

  • Apex Legends pro ShivFPS slams “clowns” who called for Bangalore nerf in Season 19 – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro ShivFPS slams “clowns” who called for Bangalore nerf in Season 19 Reddit: u/LlamasRedditPink / Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro player ShivFPS roasted the “clowns” who called for Bangalore nerfs ahead of Season 19’s changes during a recent livestream. Apex Legends’ Season 19 update is here and with it came some notable adjustments to the game’s balance. Among the various Legend changes, characters like Catalyst, Revenant, and specifically, Bangalore, got some fairly hard-hitting nerfs. Bangalore in particular had each of her abilities nerfed, likely thanks to her overwhelming presence in ALGS 2023. Now, pro Luminosity player and streamer ShivFPS has called out the “clowns” who championed Bangalore getting nerfed in the new season, going on an impassioned “rant” on stream. Apex Legends pro ShivFPS roasts “clowns” wanting Bangalore nerfs The rant in question came as part of Shiv’s stream on October 26, 2023, after he was looking for information on the Season 19 update patch. After finding out about Bangalore’s nerfs in Season 19, the streamer made his opinion about members of the Apex community who wanted to see Bangalore adjusted in the new season. “Clowns! Clowns wanting to nerf Bangalore because [you’re] dogsh*t at the game. Yep. And Digi [threat] and all that sh*t.” Specifically, Shiv is talking about the somewhat recent Digital Threat meta that has arisen thanks to Bangalore’s rise to prominence in competitive play. To combat the utility of Bangalore’s Smoke tactical, many teams scramble to find Digi Threat scopes to help see through the ability during matches. The Apex content creator continued and said, “They complain after two seasons of playing [the Digi Threat meta.] Bro. You’ve been playing your dogsh*t Horizon and Seer meta for 10 seasons. The most crutch f*cking meta in the game!” Shiv urged the community to “get it together” while continuing his impassioned speech and was confused as to why players complained about Bangalore’s Smoke ability now when it has been in the game since the very beginning. While pro players like TSM Reps certainly felt like the Digi Threat meta had become unfun, many players like ShivFPS clearly found Bangalore’s Season 19 nerfs unnecessary.

  • Apex Legends pro ShivFPS gets perfect revenge against aimbotter on his team – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro ShivFPS gets perfect revenge against aimbotter on his team Twitter: ShivFPS/RespawnPopular Apex Legends streamer Shivam ‘ShivFPS’ Patel got sweet revenge on a cheater after they were paired up in a ranked game. Just like most other multiplayer games, Apex Legends has had to deal with its fair share of cheaters before. The majority of these have, seemingly, used aimbots or wallhacks to get a leg up on the competition. Respawn Entertainment and their security team have been cracking down on cheaters and hackers, with recent ban waves going out to target some of the highest-ranked players in the game. However, before Respawn could step in this time around, Luminosity Gaming’s ShivFPS decided to get one over on a pair of cheaters he’d been teamed up with. During his April 3 stream, the popular Apex pro was solo queuing in Ranked games when he was joined by two names he recognized and quickly called them out as cheaters. Read More: Apex Legends devs respond to Trident bugs – “Yo what’s up b**ch? How you f**king cheaters doing today, huh?” he said, to no reply from his new teammates. He didn’t stop there, and continued the trash talk. “You aimbotting trash cans, f**king b**ches huh. You gonna aimbot the whole lobby, huh? Let’s f**king go,” he continued. When the game finally got underway, the LG streamer continued berating the cheating duo by trying to take all the loot and disrupting their ability to fight enemies. He tried to lead them off the edge of the map too, but they didn’t bite. However, Shiv tried it a second time when one of his new teammates was taken down, but this time brought a Trident to the party. The streamer drove away like they were going to a new spot, but drove over the edge. The other player mistakenly jumped off, leading them to eliminate themselves, so Shiv let them know how happy he was. “Later b**ch, nice aimbot. My loot now, my f**king loot now, you aimbotting f**king p**sies,” he yelled. Shiv’s chat was overjoyed with his slice of revenge, falling about themselves laughing at the moment. The highlight has even gone viral across social media too, some highlighting the way Shiv got his own back on cheaters while others can’t stop laughing at his rage. Either way, anyone who tries to cheat alongside him next time will have to tread carefully, otherwise, they’ll be going over the edge too.

  • Apex Legends pro ShivFPS finally drops Bangalore as main amid “impossible” meta – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro ShivFPS finally drops Bangalore as main amid “impossible” meta Respawn Entertainment/ShivFPSApex Legends pro player and day one Bangalore main Shivam ‘ShivFPS’ Patel has finally dropped the Professional Soldier in competitive to “play the meta”. When it comes to the competitive meta in Apex Legends, Bangalore has never managed to get much of a foothold compared to other characters on the roster. While the Professional Soldier does have a solid 5% pick rate in Season 11, Legends like Valkyrie and Gibraltar simply offer more value and utility at the highest level of play. Despite this, pro player ShivFPS stuck by his main and has continued to play Bangalore in competitive across multiple seasons, achieving some impressive results in tournaments, However, Shiv has finally announced that he is going to be stepping away from Bangalore to “play the meta”. ShivFPS quits Bangalore in competitive Apex Legends On January 15, ShivFPS took to Twitter to reveal to his followers that he will no longer be playing Bangalore in competitive. After playing the Legend since Apex’s release, racking up over 150,000 kills and 21 million damage, the popular pro is finally dropping the Professional Soldier as his main. According to Shiv, after achieving third place in the ALGS EMEA Championship, he realized that it would probably be his “greatest and last performance with Bangalore in comp”. May 4th 2021. The day maining bangalore in comp apex and succeeding becomes impossible. All while bangalore hasn’t been meta for literally 10 seasons. — LG Shiv (@ShivFPS) January 15, 2022 Not only that, he expressed that it feels “impossible” to succeed with Bangalore in the current pro meta and that it makes sense for him to put her down on a high note. Now, Shiv has revealed he’s ready to “play the meta” and take to the skies with Valkyrie, so expect to him raining down rockets with the Winged Avenger on stream. Comp if we can for the memes and nostalgia. But alas I bury the hatchet on bangalore in comp apex. Its been a good run. GG valk meta. — LG Shiv (@ShivFPS) January 15, 2022 While there’s no doubt this news will be disappointing to a lot of Shiv’s fans, it’s going to be exciting for to him finally follow the meta in competitive. There’s a chance that picking up Valkyrie gives him the tools to perform at his best, as a lot of people would argue that the Professional Soldier was holding him back previously. Either way, this is a huge change for a player who has built up a reputation as a top-tier Bangalore main, but it may give Shiv the freedom to perform at a new level.

  • Apex Legends pro ShivFPS demands Respawn remove Gold Knockdown Shield in ranked – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro ShivFPS demands Respawn remove Gold Knockdown Shield in ranked Respawn Entertainment / Twitch: ShivFPSLuminosity pro Shivam ‘ShivFPS’ Patel wants the Gold Knockdown Shield removed from Apex Legends’ Ranked mode permanently after losing a late-game clutch and missing crucial placement points to a self-revive. The Bangalore warlord (this time on Valkyrie) popped off in his January 11 stream after a tense final circle came down to five teams. Going down after a valiant effort and near-clutch, Shiv noticed he didn’t place as high as he would have liked since the team he downed was still in the game. Though all three members were knocked, the kills weren’t credited due to one player having a Gold Knockdown Shield. This meant less kill points, placement points, and overall less RP for the star streamer, leading to him ranting on stream. “I played that sh*t so well and I won’t get rewarded for that,” he later said in the stream. “That is trash man. Respawn get it together, I swear.” He doubled down on his stance on Twitter, asking Respawn to remove Gold Knockdown Shields from ranked like the developers did in pro play. “[Respawn and EA], please remove Gold Knockdown Shield self [revive] from only Ranked,” he said. “Especially high level Ranked. Thank you. Just as you have done in comp Apex.” @Respawn @EA PLEASE REMOVE GOLD KNOCKDOWN SHIELD (SELF RES) FROM ONLY RANKED, ESPECIALLY HIGH LEVEL RANKED. THANK YOU. JUST AS YOU HAVE DONE IN COMP APEX. — LG Shiv (@ShivFPS) January 11, 2022 The self-revive has been a hot topic for pros since Respawn made the switch for pro matches to maintain the competitive integrity of official competitive Apex Legends matches. At the time, the developers saw the merit in removing them from pro games, and was met with immediate calls to remove them from Ranked as well. Respawn responded to the waves of people asking for Gold Knockdowns to be taken out of Ranked, and even asked for suggestions on how the item could be reworked. Even then, the devs firmly stood behind leaving the item in Ranked for the gameplay they provide, but top players would rather see them exclusive to casual matches.

  • Apex Legends pro Shiv gets ultimate revenge on “aimbotting trashcan” teammate – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro Shiv gets ultimate revenge on “aimbotting trashcan” teammate Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro player and streamer Shivam ‘ShivFPS’ Patel noticed his teammate was hacking and decided to take revenge at the perfect moment. As with every multiplayer FPS, Apex Legends struggles with its fair share of hackers that use third-party software to gain an advantage over their opponents. Whether it’s the use of an aimbot, wallhacks, or even DDoS attacks, they’re all strictly against the game rules and will often result in a permanent suspension. While being killed by a hacker is frustrating, it can be difficult to identify if one is on your team unless you notice they’re hitting an unbelievable amount of shots. ShivFPS caught his teammate red-handed while streaming, and decided to take revenge on the cheater when they were least expecting it. ShivFPS punishes cheating teammate in Apex Legends During a match on April 25, ShivFPS was growing suspicious of a Pathfinder of his team and quickly noticed that the player was using an aimbot. Instead of riding out of the game and taking the easy win, Shiv decided to take revenge on the hacker and waited for the perfect moment to strike. For whatever reason, the aimbotting Pathfinder decided to go AFK and seemed to be alt-tabbed out of Apex Legends. Seizing the opportunity, Shiv began meleeing the cheater towards the edge of the map. Although it took him a long time to reach the cliff edge, he finally pushed the hacker off the map, eliminating him from the match. THIS IS HOW TO DEAL WITH CHEATING TRASHCANS IN APEX!!! pic.twitter.com/I2TEOhpWGn — LG Shiv (@ShivFPS) April 25, 2022 Describing the player as an “aimbotting trashcan,” Shiv celebrated next to the hacker’s death box and then carried on with the rest of the match as a solo. While being kicked out of a match isn’t a huge penalty for the Pathfinder, it was great to see a player take action and get justice for the rest of the lobby. Hopefully, Respawn sees Shiv’s clip and hands out this hacker a permanent ban before they can affect any more matches in the future.

  • Apex Legends pro Shiv frustrated with Kraber still ruining high-level matches – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro Shiv frustrated with Kraber still ruining high-level matches Respawn Entertainment/Twitch: ShivFPSApex Legends pro Shivam ‘ShivFPS’ Patel has demanded Respawn remove the Kraber from competitive play once again. Out of all the weapons in Apex Legends, there’s only one that can eliminate an enemy with full health and shields with a single bullet, and that’s the Kraber. While the heavy-duty care package sniper is featured in countless highlight-reel plays from the community, it’s also hated by a lot of players who deem the weapon unfair and broken. Capable of one-shotting an enemy with no counterplay from long-distance, there have been calls from players and pros alike for the gun to be removed from competitive play. No one has been more vocal on the topic than Apex Legends pro ShivFPS, and he’s once again called on the devs to solve the Kraber problem in comp. ShivFPS wants the Kraber removed from competitive The Kraber has been a polarizing weapon within the community for a long time and despite calls for nerfs, Respawn has made it clear that damage changes are not an option as they would ruin the point of the weapon. Despite this, in March of 2022, a dev did confirm that ideas and changes were being considered, but they didn’t involve nerfing or removing the gun from specific modes. Unfortunately, this update on the Kraber situation hasn’t satisfied everyone, with ShivFPS once again calling on Respawn to “remove it from f***ing comp”. His demand was triggered on stream after he was one-shot by the sniper in the final circle, effectively making it impossible to fight back and win the match. When it comes to the Kraber in competitive, the main issue comes with the lack of counterplay and the fact a player can be taken out in an instant without knowing what happened. It’s hard to know how Respawn is going to solve the problem without nerfing the damage or removing it from Ranked and pro matches unless they decide to alter the spawn rate. Either way, with the devs revealing they’re working on changes, we can only hope a solution is implemented by Season 13, which is set to kick off in early May.

  • Apex Legends pro Shiv demands Kraber be removed from competitive – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro Shiv demands Kraber be removed from competitive Twitch: ShivFPS/Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro Shivam ‘ShivFPS’ Patel has called on Respawn to remove the Kraber from competitive play after being instantly eliminated out of the blue during a match. The Kraber is one of the most iconic weapons in Apex Legends, with countless players showcasing their highlight reel moments with the hefty sniper rifle. While it’s not an easy gun to operate, it’s capable of one-shotting an opponent at any range with a well-placed headshot. This may be balanced for casual Apex players, but a lot of the pros are not happy with the weapon being available in competitive play, as there’s no way to counter a long-range one-shot. Now, Apex pro Shiv has demanded Respawn remove it from competitive play after he and his squad lost an intense match due to a player using the powerful gun from a distance. Is the Kraber unfair in competitive Apex Legends matches? Unlike a typical overtuned weapon in Apex Legends, the Kraber can’t just be nerfed to fix the issue, as it’s only strong when highly skilled players use the gun. As a result, a lot of pros are calling for the weapon to be removed from competitive, as they believe there is no counterplay to a long-range one-shot. If an experienced sharpshooter gets their hands on the Kraber, it’s lights out for anyone they spot from a distance, and that’s exactly what happened to Shiv and his squad in a recent competitive match. It’s fair to say Shiv wasn’t happy about going down to a Kraber, shouting on stream how the weapon needs to be removed immediately. He even took to Twitter to express his anger, directly tweeting at the official Apex Legends account. While there’s no denying that a lot of the community enjoy using the Kraber, it’s clear some pros are losing their patience with the weapon in competitive. In tournaments and competition, it’s key every player is on a level playing field and although that’s difficult to achieve, a lot of pros feel the removal of the Kraber would go a long way. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see whether Respawn agrees, or if they believe it’s better to keep the highlight-reel plays in competitive matches.

  • Apex Legends pro shares 30 tips for improving in Ranked play – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro shares 30 tips for improving in Ranked play Respawn Entertainment / EAAs a professional Apex Legends player, Peter ‘Pettyboss’ Archer is quite familiar with competing at the BR’s highest skill level, and has put together a video outlining 30 tips to help you improve your performance in Respawn’s Ranked playlist. For many players, the best part of Apex Legends is climbing the game’s ranked ladder. Apex content creators dedicate insane amounts of time to grind the game’s Ranked mode each season and compete for the coveted spot of top Apex Predator. An ALGS competitor and frequent presence in the BR’s ranked mode, Peter ‘Pettyboss’ Archer is used to competing at the top of his game. In a video shared to his YouTube channel, Pettyboss outlines 30 different things players can do to improve their gameplay in Ranked, covering topics like which Legends players should use, helpful things to practice, and much more. Some of the most important tips revolve around which Legends to play: you should be comfortable using multiple characters, and should only pick Legends that are part of the current meta. “If you main one character, and only know how to play that character, [and] they get nerfed then you’re kinda screwed,” he warns. Other helpful tips involve your landing spot for each match. You and your teammates should practice landing at a POI that is uncontested by other teams, or land at the same spot each game no matter what (so you can get used to fighting other teams if they land there with you). Another thing Pettyboss stresses is that you should always use your pings and voice comms (if applicable) to coordinate with your teammates. He emphasizes effectively communicating damage output and using actual number values instead of just saying “he’s cracked” or “he’s one-shot.” Tying back in with the point about practicing different Legends, you should also be comfortable using various guns, with and without attachments. You won’t always have a fully-kitted weapon, especially if you’re fighting a team right after dropping, and that practice can help you survive in those frantic early fights. Something else players should be aware of (and use to their advantage) is the information they can gather from the game’s kill-feed. Keeping track of other team fights and noticing when an enemy has been downed can help you decide whether to try and third-party an engagement or just play it safe. A super helpful tip, especially during the game’s final rings, is grabbing empty armor from enemy death boxes and using your cells and batteries to heal it. If you’re defending an endgame position, having extra pieces of armor to swap out can literally mean the difference between winning or losing the game. Read More: Can you play solo in Apex Legends? – Some of Pettyboss’s other tips involve the use of gold-tier items. Swapping out gold armor to share its healing ability can help conserve your supplies while switching out the gold helmet to maximize a teammate’s ability to recharge can give you an advantage over your opponents. Archer’s video also includes other more niche tips revolving around certain Legends and playstyles, so check that out for more info. And if you need some extra help with upping your game in general and not just ranked, try these neat tips to help you improve your overall skill.

  • Apex Legends streamer Rogue slams Revenant as “complete exploit” amid issues – Dexerto

Apex Legends streamer Rogue slams Revenant as “complete exploit” amid issues Team Liquid/Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro player Tanner ‘Rogue’ Trebb has labeled Revenant as a “complete exploit” due to in-game audio issues and stream snipers abusing the Revtane combo. While Revenant received a huge buff to his climbing abilities in a recent update, it’s the Death Totem that makes the Synthetic Nightmare so powerful. With the ability to give him and his teammates the chance to push aggressively with no consequences, Revenant can be incredibly difficult to deal with, especially when he’s paired up with an Octane. This combination is only made more powerful by the fact that there are very few audio cues for Legends flying through the air. This means a Revenant and an Octane can jump onto a squad without them noticing, wiping them out instantly. After experiencing this a few too many times, Apex Legends pro player Rogue took to Twitter to express exactly how he feels about the combo, especially when it’s used by stream snipers. Apex pro Rogue labels Revenant a “complete exploit” On July 15, Apex Legends pro Rogue took to Twitter to complain about the current state of Revenant when paired with stream snipers and audio issues. It was obvious Rogue was incredibly frustrated at being taken down by the Revtane combo by players who were stream sniping to find his position on the map. “If you play Rev, you admit you suck at the game, especially with how he is now.” If you play Rev, you admit you suck at the game, especially with how he is now. I don’t care if you played it before, I don’t care if you dry hump the lore in Apex, Rev is a complete exploit right now. — Rogue (@TTrebb) July 15, 2021 Unlike usual stream snipers who still have to sneak up on Rogue to get into a gunfight with him, players using the Revtane combo can simply jump over to the location, giving the streamer no chance to counter the attack. The ability to use the Revenant Ultimate and push with no consequences makes killing a target in a known location incredibly easy. “Combined with stream sniping, which if you just watched my last game, fucking unreal.” & it combined with stream sniping, which if you just watched my last game, fucking unreal, dirty fucking scum players who could never amass the IQ combined to play the game correctly. — Rogue (@TTrebb) July 15, 2021 Despite complaining about the Revtane combo, Rogue made it very clear in his final tweet that this wasn’t to do Revenant or Octane being broken. It’s to do with the fact that players can fall down onto a set of targets without triggering any audio cues. This makes it impossible to fight back, especially when stream snipers know his exact position. “This isn’t about a meta or a legend combo meta, whatever, this is purely about the fact audio doesn’t exist and the amount of pointless pushing that is just happening”. And thirdly, this isn’t about a meta or a legend combo meta, whatever, this is purely about the fact audio doesn’t exist and the amount of pointless pushing that is just happening cause the players know it would work due to the bugs. Streamsniping/audio/Revtane. Poggers. — Rogue (@TTrebb) July 15, 2021 Respawn has addressed these audio issues in the past and has expressed that they’re working on cues for Legends flying through the air. This should hopefully give victims of the Revtane combo a chance to realize what’s going on before they land. Read More: Who is Seer in Apex Legends? – However, as for streamer snipers, it’s difficult for content creators to combat them when they’re playing multiplayer titles. Unless Rogue decides to set a long delay, there’s very little he can do to stop them from spying on his location.

  • Apex Legends pro reveals why OpTic dropped their ALGS roster – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro reveals why OpTic dropped their ALGS roster Joe Brady/ ALGSOpTic Gaming released its professional Apex Legends roster suddenly after a poor showing in the first split of the ALGS and one of the players shed some light on the situation in a live stream. OpTic Gaming dropped its ALGS team on April 17 in a somewhat shocking move by the organization. The Apex Legends team placed second at the 2023 Championship just under a year ago and were just barely short of the cutoff to play at the 2024 Split 1 Playoffs LAN event. One of the dropped players, Mark ‘Dropped’ Thees, claimed on social media afterward that the organization was also pulling out of the esport entirely, instead of picking up a Split 1 Playoffs team or picking up new players. OpTic entered Apex Legends in 2022 by signing Cloud9’s former roster and had four LAN appearances where the team placed in the top 20. Dropped later explained on a Twitch livestream how his team’s sudden release from the organization went down. “We didn’t really know anything about it until [April 17] and they basically told us ‘at 5 PM we’re going to be announcing it’ and we were like, ‘Damn, ok’,” Dropped said. The exit from Apex Esports is also more shocking as OpTic is an ALGS-partnered organization. OpTic, along with 11 other teams, were chosen by EA to receive “a financial stipend in order to help them establish a stable base on which to build their competitive programs,” in 2023. Dropped explained on stream that he asked Optic about it and that they said it wasn’t enough to keep them in the esport. Apex Legends esports went through an exodus of organizations in 2023 with NRG Esports and 100 Thieves both leaving the ALGS circuit. However, some teams doubled down on their investment in Apex esports and others have returned to the circuit after years away. The partnership program was supposed to be a step in the right direction for the league, especially since the esport has lost orgs before when lowballing its offer for financial compensation from ALGS team-branded in-game monetization. Apex OpTic Gaming has yet to confirm or deny if it still has plans to be in Apex Legends. The esports and gaming brand, however, has been scaling back its esports investments and mostly holding onto its main title, Call of Duty. EA and the ALGS have yet to comment on the organization’s status as a partnered team in the circuit.

  • Apex Legends pro reveals combined power of Alter and Crypto – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro reveals combined power of Alter and Crypto Respawn EntertainmentPro Apex Legends player Teq shared a now-viral clip on social media showcasing exactly why Alter and Crypto make such a powerful combination in Season 21. Teq posted a minute-long clip on X that said “MEAT META is here”, where the trio’s team can be seen using Alter’s Void Passage tactical ability to ambush squads and take them completely by surprise. Ahead of these ambushes, Crypto uses his Drone EMP Ultimate to slow down the enemy squad and deal massive damage to their shields. Naturally, this wasn’t just a strategy that worked once, as Teq’s post featured over five different skirmishes that resulted in the opposite team’s squad getting wiped. While Crypto may have been downed in the ensuing fight, the tactic always led to victory. Fans in the comments section acknowledged just how powerful the combo looked. “Yeah we’ll need Wattsons Ult to shoot Crypto drones now lol this entry is unbeatable fr,” said one X user, while another added, “Breach and clear is broken with this combo man.” As the new Legend introduced in Season 21, Alter hasn’t made a massive splash in the Apex Legends meta just yet. In fact, many members of the game’s community praised that Alter wasn’t OP on release. TSM pro player, ImperialHal, noted that, while he doesn’t see Alter making waves in the competitive Apex Legends scene, the character seems fun for public lobbies. Of course, it’s still early in Season 21 so it will take some time to see how Alter really shakes out among the ever-growing roster. With Apex Legends’ focus on team composition, it’s important to find characters that Alter synergizes with. If Teq’s post on X is anything to go by, Crypto may be the partner the Void Breacher needs to bring her into the spotlight in Season 21.

  • Apex Legends pro PVPX demonstrates why Peacekeeper nerf is disappointing – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro PVPX demonstrates why Peacekeeper nerf is disappointing Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro Jamison ‘PVPX’ Moore tested out the Peacekeeper shotgun after Respawn had issued a hotfix – but it doesn’t look like he was impressed. Season 3 for the battle royale has been dominated by the Peacekeeper; players have found that it excels in close range for obvious reasons, but can also be incredibly potent at distance, with some likening it to a sniper. To dial back some of its efficiency, Respawn Entertainment issued a quick hotfix to the weapon which increased the rechamber time while decreasing the headshot multiplier that can instantly delete players. But during PVPX’s November 22 stream, he went to the Firing Range (which didn’t have Respawn’s update at the time) to test out the Peacekeeper – which only shows why its in “drastic” need of a meaningful balance change. “Everything they nerfed was completely unrelated to what broke the gun, that is tough,” someone on PVPX’s stream can be heard saying. Right off the bat, the 26-year-old pro landed a quickfire shot on a target for 110 damage, the subsequent shots registered for 165, 150 with a pair of 110 hits at a distance. Even in a barrage of mid-range shots, the Peacekeeper kept registering above 110 per hit, meaning the gun still has the potential for breaking shields with ease. The criticisms of the Peacekeeper have been mounting, as more players from both the pro scene and casual environments continue to express their displeasure at the broken weapon. “Kinda sad guys,” NRG pro Brandon ‘Ace’ Winn said. “I’ve happily been able to push through every change and meta apex has given us. but this PK buff is just miserable… REVERT THE PK pls.” kinda sad guys.. i’ve happily been able to push through every change and meta apex has given us. but this pk buff is just miserable, i can barely even find the drive to play. REVERT THE PK pls @Respawn — brandon (@aceu) November 22, 2019 Shortly after Ace’s comments, a Respawn dev had teased the nerf that came out shortly after, although the community might want a more solid adjustment to the gun. “It wasn’t about the damage numbers,” competitive free agent Tanner ‘Rogue’ Trebb said. “It was about the pellet size because at any point even someone who kinda sucks can still hit you. If you lower that down some, or back to where it was and return the headshot and the rechamber – the [Peacekeeper] is back to normal.” It looks like Respawn still has some work to do on the Peacekeeper, as the community is pushing for better adjustments to be made. UPDATE: According to PVPX the nerf wasn’t applied to the Peacekeeper in the clip since it was during a Firing Range session, which hasn’t been updated with Respawn’s hotfix. The story has been updated to reflect that change.

  • Apex Legends pro pulls off game-winning Kraber trickshot during ALGS – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro pulls off game-winning Kraber trickshot during ALGS Respawn EntertainmentApex pro Matthew “Emtee” Trengrove from Moist Esports hit a Kraber trickshot to win a group stage match at the 2023 Apex Legends Global Series Championship, with the moment instantly going viral. The ALGS Championship started on September, 6 with players competing for a $2 million prize pool. Moist Esports is one of the teams competing in the competition, and although not among the favorites for the top prize, they are well-supported thanks to their connection to YouTuber Moist Crit1Kal. And their support may have shot up even further, when one of the Moist players, Emtee, hit a game-winning trickshot with the Kraber, like something out of a MW2 sniping montage. ALGS Kraber trickshot goes viral Moist took a horizon lift ability as they hunted down the last team on the map. Emtee was the last to use the lift, and as he is mid-air, he spins around multiple times, roughly a 720, with the Kraber, before firing and hitting a member of the enemy team. “What?! What a beast?!” the commentators explained. “Would you ever think you’d see that on-stage at lan?!” Apex Legends fans were also shocked by Emtee’s audatious trickshot. “That was a legitimate trick shot too lmao,” one said. Another responded, “watching that live was insane, the crowd lost it.” Moist finished the game with 12 placement points and 5 kills, putting them in 9th position going into the bracket stage with a total of 124 overall points. They are behind DarkZero, who are in the lead with 176 points going into the bracket stage, and remain the overwhelming favorites. Moist Esports team was founded in 2021 by Charles White Jr., also known as MoistCr1TiKaL. He retweeted the clip on Twitter, but fans are eagerly anticipating a live reaction to the trickshot by his player: “Was Charlie watching that moment? Any clip of his reaction?” Stay up to date with all the action at the 2023 ALGS Championship right here on Dexerto.

  • Apex Legends pro players apologize after “teaming” in scrims – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro players apologize after “teaming” in scrims Professional players for esports organization Team SoloMid have admitted to ‘teaming’ with fellow Apex Legends pros from Sentinels in a scrim, apologizing for their “childish” behavior. TSM, well known for a host of esports teams and personalities, have established themselves as one of the strongest teams in the world, winning the $500,000 Apex Legends Pre-Season Invitational back in September. Their player roster, consisting of ImperialHal, Reps and Albralelie is thought of as the very best in Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale. On December 13, they apologized publicly after they were found to have ‘teamed’ in a professional scrimmage. The community’s attention was drawn to the controversy after clips emerged showing the TSM roster ‘teaming’ with Sentinels in a professional scrimmage. The clip came from the channel of ‘Nicewigg’, a controller-based Apex Legends professional who currently plays for CLG. After he was killed in a scrim, spectating TSM appeared to indicate that they were teaming. Sentinels’ players retzi and zombs were those accused of teaming with TSM; deliberately not killing their enemies and joining force. After being found out, a number of players on both rosters provided explanations and apologies. ImperialHal led the apology, explaining that they thought it was funny in the moment. However, they now realize that they “ruined the practice for that game” and apologized for their juvenile behavior. These sentiments were echoed by both his TSM teammates, and retzi of Sentinels. We thought the lobby was dead but there is still no excuse for trolling like that. Sorry. Wont happen again. — Reps (@TSM_Reps) December 14, 2019 https://twitter.com/retzi/status/1205662631098404864?s=20 There were mixed responses on social media, with some arguing that it was only a scrimmage, and the apology should be accepted. Others suggested that the pros should receive a ban or punishment of some kind, for a clear breach of professional rules. Read More: Who is Revenant in Apex Legends? – At the time of writing, there has been no official acknowledgment or punishment handed out by Respawn Entertainment. Given that the match was not in an officially sanctioned tournament, it’s unlikely any action will be taken.

  • Apex Legends pro player dropped after getting caught cheating on stream – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro player dropped after getting caught cheating on stream Controversy has struck the pro scene of Apex Legends as a competitive player who was using cheats in matches has now been exposed. The culprit in question is ‘ElmZero,’ a battle royale player who was in the process of joining competitive gaming organization Zenith Esports. On February 25, during a pro scrim match, Team Liquid pro BR player ‘Rogue’ saw some suspicious activity on ElmZero’s stream, as it appeared that he was using some sort of third-party software to help out his aim. Rogue clipped the sequence of events and posted it on Twitter, along with the caption: “How are people streaming cheats in scrims?” HOW ARE PEOPLE STREAMING CHEATS IN SCRIMS LMAO? pic.twitter.com/85HHNsGcNq — Rogue (@Liquid_Rogue) February 26, 2019 Upon seeing this tweet, former professional Paladins player ‘Envy’ tweeted out another clip showing ElmZero hitting some more questionable shots in a different match. I just clicked to a random part of the vod and this is the first thing I see lmao What a joke. pic.twitter.com/TlCpwGW0AK — Envy (@TheBetterEnvy) February 26, 2019 Putting a cap on the evidence that was starting to pour in, Rogue tweeted out another clip of ElmZero warming up before an Apex Legends match, and the video pretty much proved that the player was using some sort of third-party tracking software. Here is a clip of our main man warming up his awesome aim. pic.twitter.com/vNiuPD0goI — Rogue (@Liquid_Rogue) February 26, 2019 All of this was brought to the attention of Zenith Esports, who were in the process of recruiting ElmZero and had already moved him to the tryouts phase. Upon seeing the evidence, Zenith announced that they would be cutting ties with the player completely, as he had violated the terms of their agreement. “Prior to trialing players, we always verbally agree that nobody will utilize 3rd party software or cheating mechanisms,” they tweeted. “This includes ElmZero. ElmZero was not contracted with us, and has been removed entirely from our trial process. Thank you for looking out.” Prior to trialing players, we always verbally agree that nobody will utilize 3rd party software or cheating mechanisms. This includes ElmZero. ElmZero was not contracted with us, and has been removed from our trial process. Thank you to the community for looking out. — Zenith Esports (@ZenithEsports) February 26, 2019 Zenith went on to admit that although in situations like this they would normally wait for a formal investigation to be conducted, they org explained that ElmZero deleting all of his Twitch clips and rebroadcasts was evidence enough. The player has gone pretty much dark ever since the allegations surfaced, including deactivating his Twitter account, and has yet to make any formal statement regarding this situation. While it is a positive that a potential cheater was removed from the competitive scene, this situation raises the bigger issue that there are way too many cheaters currently roaming within Apex Legends. If a truly successful esports scene is to be built for this game, then Respawn Entertainment will definitely need to step it up when it comes to establishing effective anti-cheat software and filters. Until then, many organizations will definitely be treading very carefully when analyzing and assessing the talent levels of potential recruits, as well they should be.

  • Apex Legends pro NiceWigg explains why controller players deserve more respect – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro NiceWigg explains why controller players deserve more respect Apex Legends professional player Jack ‘NiceWigg’ Martin has explained why controller players deserve more respect, as console gamers flood over to PC following the announcement of the Global Series. Announced by Respawn Entertainment and EA on December 17, the PC-only Global Series with a $3 million prize pool will kick off in January 2020, as players from over 60 countries compete for their share of the massive reward. With the competition exclusively on PC, many of the top Apex Legends players on console are making the transition to the platform, and while many keyboard and mouse users may think they are vastly superior to those using a gamepad, CLG’s NiceWigg has warned them that they need to show respect to those wielding the controller. In a video uploaded to Twitter on December 18, NiceWigg, who uses a controller himself, had a warning for top console players, but also a call to PC players to show more respect to those making the transition. “Do controller players deserve to get hate because they have aim assist?” the pro stated. “No, we should be respected like every mouse and keyboard player. We have to overcome so many disadvantages — we can’t move while looting, we can’t choose our heals while moving, our creativity is hindered by our movement.” “Does aim assist help you in close range gunfights? Yes. You cannot deny that aim assist helps you in close range gunfights, it’s a confirmed fact.” Everyone in the Apex community should listen to this. pic.twitter.com/K2X5yZSVuX — CLG NiceWigg (@NiceWigg) December 18, 2019 “Global Series has been announced, lots of console players coming over to PC. Console players, if you think you’re going to come over to PC and dominate, you’re completely wrong. Humble yourself. Your rank doesn’t mean sh*t when you’re coming over to PC to compete against the top players.” “I want to make it completely evident to mouse and keyboard players, do not doubt these controller players. Just because they are behind in competition does not mean they can’t learn to compete against the best of the best. If they are hungry enough, and they have the willpower to learn and get good, you don’t deserve to sh*t on these guys at all. I guarantee we’re going to see a lot of controller players come out on top.” Keyboard and mouse versus controller has been a storied rivalry throughout the history of gaming, with PC players often looking down on those who use a gamepad to play instead of the computer peripherals. Those who do use mouse and keyboard generally have an advantage over their console counterparts, with the mouse allowing for more precise aiming compared to a thumbstick. Of course, that hasn’t stopped controller players reaching the top of esports though, with Fortnite players like Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff and Aydan ‘Ghost Aydan’ Conrad well-known for their prowess with a controller. Whether controller players can best their keyboard enemies on Apex Legends remains to be seen, but we won’t have long to wait to see them square off, with the Global Series kicking off on January 25, 2020.

  • Apex Legends pro Nafen pulls off game-winning clutch while his house is “on fire” – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro Nafen pulls off game-winning clutch while his house is “on fire” NRG / Unsplash: Thomas Ehling / RespawnNRG pro Nathan ‘Nafen’ Nguyen went to all lengths to pull out a game-winning Apex Legends clutch in the middle of a tournament, ignoring his house being “on fire” to catch the win. Endgame fights can get pretty intense in Apex Legends, especially at the top levels with pros duking it out for prize money. NRG was playing in the Box Fight Championship (BFG) event on November 11, sitting near the top of the leaderboard and trying to push for a win. As the end game circle was heating up though, so was Nafen’s house. In the final fight against 100 Thieves, Nafen was clicking heads and dishing out the pain. However, in the background, his fire alarm was blaring out. “My house is on fire, my house is on fire,” Nafen exclaimed. NRG ended up winning the 3v3, with Nafen getting the final kill on Seer before jumping out of his chair to go check what was burning. His teammates weren’t sympathetic to the situation at first. “When I’m clutching I’d rather not play with the f**king fire alarm on,” teammate Chris ‘sweet’ Sexton said. “I’m literally in the bubble f**king flicking and I hear the fire alarm going off.” Thankfully for Nafen, his house wasn’t really on fire. He confirmed that the fire alarm was set off because his little sister burned some food in the kitchen. “I just went to put out the fire while winning that game at the same time, all simultaneously,” Nafen said after checking things out. While the fire alarm went off again while NRG were waiting for their next game, again nothing came of it. As for how NRG went in the BFC tournament, they fell a few points shy of first place, coming in third with 65 points behind Spacestation Gaming and Cloud9 both on 67. However, they did walk away with a little bit of cash to make up for the heart attack.

  • Apex Legends pro Mendo finds hidden Caustic trick to make gas traps fly – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro Mendo finds hidden Caustic trick to make gas traps fly Respawn EntertainmentTeam Liquid pro Lucas ‘Mendokusaii’ Håkansson found a consistent way to turn Caustic’s Nox Gas Traps in Apex Legends into flying projectiles to take opponents by surprise. With the new Apex Legends Global Series picking up soon, pro players around the world are refining their tactics in the battle royale to keep one leg above the rest of the heap – which sometimes can also mean finding new ways to make use of a Legend’s abilities. Previously we’ve seen Caustic’s gas traps do some weird things that can sometimes feel like they have a mind of their own, but Mendo actually tested out a way to make a launching effect consistent and effective. By throwing out a gas trap so that Caustic is “partially inside of it,” players can move forward into the trap to make it jump forward instead of just having it be a stationary container. “There’s no way that’s actually real,” Mendo said while testing the new launching mechanic. “I’m going to launch it.” Though the first few attempts only sent the trap skipping ahead a small distance, he soon figured out how to give the projectile a bit more reach. “The longer I stay, the further it flies too,” he said. Sitting inside of the gas trap for about six seconds made a huge difference, making the gas trap scale almost the whole way up the Firing Range’s hill. For added effect, Mendo even saw that you can “triple stack” traps and shoot them before launching it, so that they spew out Nox Gas while flying. The Liquid pro stumbled onto this oddity in one of his matches after taking down an opponent and using the trap to conceal himself while he healed. After finishing his heal, the trap went flying, prompting him to go into the Firing Range to test it out, and he found that you can even throw one onto a teammate for them to launch it. This discovery gives Caustic the ability to send his traps barrelling into an opponent’s stronghold. So, if a team nestles themselves into a building or room while filling it with Wattson’s fences or the like, instead of taking a head-on fight, just launch a trap from a distance and smoke them out. While this hidden Caustic mechanic still needs some refining and it could be tricky to master, but it’s a game-changer for people looking for new ways to terrorize the Apex Games with the Toxic Trapper.

  • Apex Legends pro Mendo explains how to “jump boost” teammates – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro Mendo explains how to “jump boost” teammates There are a ton of movement tricks in Apex Legends that can give players an upper-hand on World’s Edge, and none are better at discovering these tactics than Team Liquid’s Lucas ‘Mendokusaii’ Håkansson. While Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale has a ton of Legends with unique ability kits to take into the Apex Games, when the guns start blazing survival is all about how a player maneuvers around a fight to come out on top. People have already discovered a ton of slick ways to contort around a difficult situation, but very few of those tricks have teammates in mind for getting around World’s Edge. That is until Mendo and his group got into the Firing Range and discovered an unorthodox but highly effective way of giving less-mobile Legends a boost up to high peaks. Perching themselves near a wall that isn’t quite scalable with the climbing function, Mendo used a punch-jump to help Wraith get up over the ledge. “What if I can punch you while you jump and then you can start climbing to get that little extra boost,” Mendo hypothesized. On the first try, the theory turned out to work. Though reproducing the “Liquid Jump” took a bit of practice to sync up the timing of the jump and the punch up. Read more: 5 features Apex Legends desperately needs – In order to do it, a teammate will have to jump up while another punches them upward to get a huge leap off the ground. As for the person punching, they’d have to punch their teammate near the moment they leaped in order to send them flying. It seems like it’s easier to reproduce the trick with some Legends over others, as the squad strung a ton of leaps with Pathfinder as the launcher – but it’s more about the timing than the characters a team uses. As situational as it seems, it didn’t take long to find a use for the trick in-game, as the team pulled off the maneuver to launch a Wraith to a tower high above. The players were hyped to find a new mechanic in the game, and are already finding ways to incorporate it in their Apex Legends gameplay.

Apex Legends pro Mendo baffled after witnessing hacker vs hacker fight Respawn EntertainmentTeam Liquid pro Lucas ‘Mendokusaii’ Håkansson was baffled to see the state of Apex Legends after watching an epic gunfight between two high ranked hacking teams. After reaching the top 10 in his Diamond-elo ranked match, Mendo was lasered by a hacker shortly before they took out the rest of his squad. Though at this point, the squad of streamers were more disappointed than surprised running into the team of Apex Legends cheaters. While making plans to get off of Apex because of the influx in hackers above Diamond-elo, Mendo was spectating the player that took him down “because he ‘owned’ [Mendo], so [he wanted] to learn” from them. Spectating the cheaters was dull. Their gameplay was filled with botched Pathfinder grapples and awkward rotations that led basically nowhere. But a dejected Mendo was soon brought to life after his killers confronted a team that proved to give them a good fight since they too were hacking. “This is hacker versus hacker, what?!” Mendo said. “What has this game turned into?!” The Epicenter quickly came alive with gunfire as aim botters were doing their best to land shots on speed hackers. It was a surreal sight to see an aim hacking player take cover for once. In fact, both sides were taking damage as the Bloodhound was quickly taken out. Even the Pathfinder that managed to strike down Mendo had their purple shield popped as they tried to land shots with their L-Star to no avail. Eventually, the hacker that took Mendo out was downed, leaving a lone Gibraltar to clean up the situation. While Pathfinder had some trouble getting their shots to land, the Gibby managed to keep up with the competition with speed hacks of their own. This group of hackers managed to be better than their counterparts, eventually leading to a win. While this isn’t the kind of gameplay anyone hopes to see, by spectating the hackers Mendo made it more likely that the devs will notice them that could lead to bans. Respawn has been trying to get a hold of Apex Legends’ hacking problems, but there are still multiple instances of entire matches being shut down because of a looming cheater.

  • Apex Legends pro match ruined as Genburten and ImperialHal get hacked during ALGS – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro match ruined as Genburten and ImperialHal get hacked during ALGS Joe Brady (@joebradyphoto)/ALGSThe Apex Legends NA Pro League Finals was ruined after ImperialHal and Genburten were hacked during an ALGS match. ALGS’ NA Pro League Split 1 is playing out its Finals to qualify the region’s 12 representatives to the Split 1 Playoffs, however, it has been hit with some major setbacks as some of its biggest players being hacked. DarkZero’s Genburten was the first to be hit with a hack in Game Four, suddenly getting a UI interface on his screen and the ability to see players through walls. And according to the hack interface, Genburten was given an aimbot as well. Despite DarkZero’s IGL Zer0 asking if he could still play while getting hacked, Genburten didn’t continue, staying inside a room to avoid cheating and subsequently leaving the game. As Genburten got hacked, his account automatically messaged the lobby, “Apex hacking global series by Destroyer2009 & R4ndom”, with the hackers supposedly announcing themselves. However, he wasn’t the only one to be hacked, as ImperialHal would soon find out. Once again in a reset-ed Game Four, hacks were given to players — and this time ImperialHal was chosen. As TSM braced themselves for a fight, Hal noticed his aim to be particularly snappy, immediately telling his teammates he had aimbot on. As TSM took cover in a building, Hal’s teammates Reps and Verhulst could be heard telling him to leave the game. Despite Hal’s insistence to try to play on, it seems the server was promptly shut down by the admins. Around 15 minutes after the server was shut down, the ALGS admins announced on stream and on Twitter that the NA Finals would be postponed. “Due to the competitive integrity of this series being compromised, we have made the decision to postpone the NA Finals at this time. We will share more information soon.” Despite the prompt postponement of the matches, the players were less than happy. “EA FIX YOUR F***ING S*** GET A BETTER ANTICHEAT,” Genburten tweeted after the announcement came out.

  • Apex Legends pro Mande reveals plan to return to competitive play – Dexerto

Apex Legends pro Mande reveals plan to return to competitive play Instagram: MandeTSM streamer and Apex Legends pro player Mikkel ‘Mande’ Hestbek has unveiled his plans to return to competitive play. Since 2019, Danish Apex Legends player Mande has played under several different organizations throughout his time competing in the popular battle royale. However, the 25-year-old hasn’t been involved in the pro scene for a short while now — since the 2023 ALGS Split 1 Playoffs in London earlier this year, where he and his team Alliance placed fifth. After streaming full-time under the TSM banner since February, Mande has now announced plans to return to playing competitively. Mande wants to play pro Apex Legends again In a July 16 tweet, Mande announced that he’d like to return to playing competitively after watching the ALGS Split 2 Finals — adding that he’s open to serious offers, and is willing to do whatever’s necessary to play at the highest level. “After watching this LAN I’ve come to the conclusion that I want to play comp again,” he wrote. “I will entertain serious offers only. I outwork every other pro player in the game and I put in the time and effort needed + more (yes I will stop playing path only). That is all thanks.” Despite not playing competitively since the beginning of 2023, Mande still sits 12th on the list when it comes to the highest-earning players in Apex Legends, earning himself over $160k to-date from past tournaments. While the Danish player is interested in returning to playing professionally, others have recently departed from the competitive scene. Apex Legends pro HisWattson recently announced his retirement from the esport after three years of competitive play. In a July 15 statement, the 21-year-old revealed that he’s wanted to “move on” from pro Apex for a while, but was convinced multiple times to continue playing.
