Apex Legends pro Mande reveals details of $400,000 gambling deal he rejected YouTube: MandeMande is an Apex Legends pro with nearly 300,000 followers on Twitch alone and he’s now broken down the details of one gambling company’s unbelievable offer to promote their site on his stream. There’s been a huge crossover between gaming and gambling on Twitch in recent years. Streamers like Xpozed and Trainwreck have been at the helm of this movement, but it seems like one company tried to convince Mande to join the tide. They were ultimately unsuccessful, but the top-tier support player went in-depth on the offer and what might make someone accept the kind of deal that was on the table for him. Mande breaks down $400,000 gambling deal that he shot down In a July 28 video, Mande was having a conversation about the influx of cryptocurrency-based organizations getting involved in esports, like the 210m deal that saw FTX and TSM come together back in June 2021. After talking about how life-changing that amount of money could be, the streamer brought up this gambling offer and spoke about how lucrative it could have been. “I already said no to a pretty big f***ing offer from a pretty big gambling site and it wasn’t even that bad,” he said. “I think it was 4 hours a week I’d have to gamble, and they’d give me $15,000 a month.” He went on to explain that the company would also give him $6,000 to gamble with each stream and if he made the money back by the time he was done he could keep it. “I think the offer was about $300,000 to $400,000 in six months.” Mande didn’t go in-depth on why he didn’t take the deal, but it may be that he felt fine in his current routine. He did later mention that if anyone offered up a deal that would change the course of the next 20 or 30 years for any streamer they’d have to be a fool to say no.

Apex Legends pro Mande hits insane highlight with 4 straight no-scopes to wipe squad – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Mande hits insane highlight with 4 straight no-scopes to wipe squad Respawn Entertainment/Twitch MandePopular Apex Legends pro and streamer Mikkel ‘Mande’ Hestbek pulled off a ridiculous Sentinel play, landing four consecutive no-scopes for a clean squad wipe. For the majority of Apex Legends players, the Sentinel is a long-range rifle used for knocking down opponents from afar. Despite this, the charged weapon can be extremely potent at close to medium range, but it’s essential that you land every single shot. Otherwise, a foe using a full-auto AR or SMG will beam you down before you have a chance to retaliate. Well, on a recent stream, Mande impressed his viewers by showcasing his insane skills with the Sentinel, somehow pulling off consecutive no-scopes and taking down an entire enemy squad. Mande shows off his ridiculous Sentinel skills in Apex Legends During a recent stream, Mande was playing Horizon on the Olympus map as a solo player in Trios. After running into an enemy squad, he immediately downed an opponent with a well-aimed Sentinel quick scope. Realizing they may look for a rez, the pro threw Horizon’s Black Hole and went for an aggressive push, landing back-to-back no-scopes to down another foe. With just the Wraith left, Mande took to the sky using the Gravity Lift before landing another no scope to destroy the enemy’s shields. Finally, he patiently waited for her to take the gunfight, ending the skirmish with one more no scope while sliding for a clean squad wipe. All of this made for a ridiculous clip that shows just how accurate Mande is with the Sentinel. At no point did he look under pressure or concerned that his no-scopes wouldn’t hit the target. There’s no denying that the weapon deals devastating damage at every range, but without the precision to land your shots, it can feel completely useless.

Apex Legends pro Mande departs from SCARZ and teammates rpr & Taisheen – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Mande departs from SCARZ and teammates rpr & Taisheen Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro Mande could be on the move after he bid adieu to SCARZ and his longtime ALGS teammates rpr and Taisheen. The SCARZ trio were one of the longest-tenured teams in all of Apex Legends, first forming back in 2020 before being picked up by the organization early the following year. According to esports.gg, while rpr and Taisheen are both retiring from competitive play, Mande will be taking a break to regroup and hopefully find a team that matches his drive to chase ALGS glory. Mande departs SCARZ, leaves behind rpr & Taisheen Together, the iconic EMEA trio won the very first ALGS Championship of their region, and also formed a fanbase that’s nearly unrivaled across all of Apex thanks to a genuine kinship that made them stand out in a cutthroat environment. Mande commented directly on the news in reply to a goodbye video from the org, and he made it clear that there was no bad blood between the squad and that he wishes everyone the best of luck in their new endeavors. “It was a good run and I couldn’t ask for better people to do it with. Love you all and here is to a bright future for everyone,” he said. The future is yet unwritten, but the EMEA region losing another one of its biggest stars would be quite a tragedy for the budding scene. However, if Mande does find a squad that matches his goals though, it’s sure to be an explosive return to the scene. His stock should be quite high given how successful he has been in the past, but it’s been clear for his entire career that being on a good team isn’t enough, so anyone offering will likely have to prove their dedication if they want to win the star support player over.

Apex Legends pro makes insane Wraith play to defeat TSM and Sentinels – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro makes insane Wraith play to defeat TSM and Sentinels Apex Legends pro Carlo ‘Dcop’ Delsol ended a match in the competitive NA GLL Apex Legends Series with a crazy Wraith play to see off both Team SoloMid and Sentinels. Apex Legends esports combines the best of first-person shooters and battle royale genres into one competitive slog to be the last squad standing. While World’s Edge has significantly shifted the meta for competitive Apex Legends matches, Team SoloMid have remained as a front runner after winning the $500,000 Apex Legends Pre-Season Invitational back in September. While the controversy relating to TSM and Sentinels joining forces in professional scrims has simmered down, Dcop found himself up against both squads in an intense final engagement in Game Two of the GLL: Apex Legends Series (NA region). After taking down the entire Rogue squad and eliminating Sentinels’ Zombs, Delsol found himself up against TSM’s ImperialHal — who was barely clinging onto his life with a Gold Knockdown Shield. https://twitter.com/dcopOW/status/1206383636938838016 In a spur of the moment heads-up play, Dcop maneuvered his way around the graveyard of banners and made his way into Wraith’s Dimensional Rift. After avoiding circle damage while being temporarily between ‘The Void’ and the World’s Edge, the Pittsburgh Storm pro out-lasted Hal and clinched Game Two in what was a nail-biting finale. https://twitter.com/GLLApex/status/1206427738602688512 Although Dcop managed to secure this match, it was TSM who stole the show on the night, with two Apex Games’ wins. After seeing off Sentinels – in a fitting end to what has been a headline week for both organizations – Team SoloMid will be looking to retain their pole position among a loaded list of rosters.

Apex Legends pro k4shera apologizes for racist messages to Korean player – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro k4shera apologizes for racist messages to Korean player Joe Brady/EAApex Legends pro Francisco ‘k4shera’ Alves has apologized for sending racist messages toward Korean player Lim ‘Obly’ Jung-hyun during a set of scrims. The Apex Legends pro scene has been back in full swing, with teams across the globe having an eye toward the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs in London on July 13th. With the LAN final being just a few weeks away, scrims and practice regimes have become a bit more regular in nature, with a few regions starting to mix as well. It’s no longer solely Europe vs Europe or North America vs North America in lobbies. However, Acend’s k4shera came under fire as he targeted Fun123’s Obly during May 31st scrims, sending two messages towards him in the pre-game lobby that had to be censored after Obly had jokingly renamed himself ‘ACE Baldguy’ and challenged his squad at the Staging POI. A number of viewers and Apex fans called out the Acend player for being racist within the messages, prompting a lengthy apology from him following the set of scrims. “I never support racism or bigotry. I know I am not these things and never had any intention of targeting a specific racial group or nationality, I only intended to respond to obly directly in response to feeling disrespected by him in the last few days,” he tweeted. “It was a very poor use of wording, there are obviously cultural differences which I didn’t take into account and caused more offense than I ever intended with an insult that was only targeted to one player. “I apologise directly to obly and to anyone that felt offended by the wording that I used, if he or anyone took particular offense by it to this beyond the normal back and forth of the scene I apologize because my intent was very far away from it.” Obly quickly accepted the apology, owning up to his “trolling” and adding that k4shera shouldn’t have been put under the microscope for “racial issues.” He tweeted: “In this game we sometimes spout random words and that’s not true. The beginning was my trolling, but you don’t have to be criticized unnecessarily for racial issues. love and peace.”

Apex Legends pro ImperialHal weighs in on Flatline vs R301 debate – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro ImperialHal weighs in on Flatline vs R301 debate Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro player Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen has weighed in on the Flatline versus R301 assault rifle debate, as both weapons strive to be the battle royale’s best. Weapon balance is crucial in any first-person shooter title, and Apex Legends is no different. Incorporating a number of weapons from the Titanfall series, the Respawn BR has thrived on a creative weapon pool, with plenty of guns that have stand-out qualities and can flourish in the right hands. Two of the game’s strongest weapons, as they have been since it launched back in 2019, are the R301 assault rifle and the VK-47 Flatline. However, the two weapons perform very differently in spite of their similar overall strengths. Now, Apex Legends pro player ImperialHal has weighed in on the debate, and explained which one certain players should be using. During his July 24 Twitch stream, the TSM star was asked by a subscriber which was better, the Flatline or the R301. His answer depended on the player in question, and their ability to handle a slower and more volatile weapon like the Flatline. “Flatline’s probably a better gun overall than the R301 because of more damage,” he responded. “The Flatline has a bigger mag and does more damage than the 301, but the 301 is easier. So for casuals, you’ll probably use the 301 because casuals don’t know how to handle recoil compared to pro players. “So if you’re a pro player you should be using the Flatline.” In short, the weapon you should be using (at least in Hal’s opinion), depends on your confidence when it comes to controlling recoil and putting down accurate shots. If you can manage that, the Flatline is for you. If you struggle to hit consistent shots then opt for the R301, which will be more forgiving to newer players. Its lower damage will be compensated by lower recoil and faster rate of fire, so you’ll still be able to compete with most enemies.

Apex Legends pro ImperialHal wants 3 changes to Ranked play in Season 11 – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro ImperialHal wants 3 changes to Ranked play in Season 11 Respawn Entertainment/TSMApex Legends pro Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen has called for a rework to the game’s Ranked mode and suggested three major changes the devs could implement. As with any battle royale or multiplayer FPS, Apex Legends is a competitive game at its heart and is filled with players who want to win every single match they jump into. It’s this desire to come out on top that spurs the community to play the title’s Ranked mode every season. This gives players a chance to test their skills against opponents of a similar level, as they attempt to work their way up the tiers. However, as Respawn hasn’t touched or updated this Ranked mode for a long time, a lot of players feel like the system has become outdated. One of which is Apex Legends pro-ImperialHal, who has suggested three changes he wants to see come to Ranked in Season 11. ImperialHal calls for an overhaul to Apex Legends Ranked With the #ChangeApexLegendsRanked trend beginning in mid-August on Twitter, a lot of streamers and pro players have shared their opinion on what features need to be added to the mode. On August 26, ImperialHal decided to join the conversation and shared that he thinks the current Ranked system is outdated. According to him, so much has changed in Apex since Ranked was last tweaked, meaning the mode needs an update so it aligns with what the player base is looking for. If there was one thing id ask Apex to change its the Ranked system, its been the same for like 6+ Seasons now. The game has changed so much and so have the players so the system is completely outdated, please for the next season change it in someway. Demotion should 100% happen — ImperialHal (@ImperialHal) August 26, 2021 Instead of just calling for an overhaul, ImperialHal suggested three changes that could be made in Season 11 to help rejuvenate Ranked. For starters, he wants demotion to be added to the mode to stop players from reaching a high rank and not playing their best. As there’s no risk of dropping in the current system, it doesn’t provide an incentive for players to always go for the win. Next, he asks for an in-game leaderboard so it’s easy to see which tier you’re in and who you’re competing against. This is particularly important for Apex Predators, as having to check leaderboards online is awkward and doesn’t feel as rewarding. Finally, cosmetics for certain Predator rankings to push players to perform at their best and hopefully, reach the top. -Demotion -in game leaderboard -cosmetics for certain Pred ranking like 1st etc So many things can be added to make ranked better but its been stuck at the same place for a long time….. its time for a change— TSMFTX ImperialHal (@TSM_ImperialHal) August 26, 2021 While none of these features would be major additions to the overall game, they would provide more incentive for the community to play ranked, and create a better distribution of players on the ladder. Respawn may opt to make changes to Ranked in Season 11, but as adding brand new content will always be their priority, it’s not likely to be on the top of their list

Apex Legends pro ImperialHal stunned by new hacks in Ranked “worse than Tufi” – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro ImperialHal stunned by new hacks in Ranked “worse than Tufi” Respawn Entertainment/TSMApex Legends pro player Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen encountered a player in his ranked game using a set of new hacks that made them “worse than Tufi”. Season 10 of Apex Legends is well underway, and while players are enjoying all of the new content from the major update, cheaters and hackers are still terrorizing the top of the ranked ladder. While Respawn has threatened legal action against those who decide to DDoS and hack in-game, the problem still persists with certain players using third-party programs to gain an advantage over their opponents. Although it just began with simple aimbots, it’s now evolved into hackers being able to teleport and even hover in mid-air whenever they please. During one of his streams, Apex pro ImperialHal ran into one of these cheaters and decided to spectate them to show his audience exactly how broken the hacks had become. ImperialHal runs into new hacks in Apex Legends During his August 23 stream, ImperialHal was playing with Snip3down and Baronful when the Trio ran into a cheater at Lava Siphon. It wasn’t long before all three of them were eliminated, so they decided to spectate the hacker to see exactly what the player was capable of doing. Not afraid to use their hacks frequently, the cheater immediately began floating mid-air after using their Octane Ultimate to scout the entire area around them. Taking to Twitter, ImperialHal even referenced the infamous Apex cheater Tufi when talking about the player he encountered, showing exactly how overpowered these cheats are. Read More: New Apex Legends map Tropic Island leaked – It seems like the hacks are even programmed to randomly teleport the player around when they’re getting shot at, paired with the aimbot, this makes it impossible to lose any gunfight. And we thought Tufi was bad…… pic.twitter.com/dtz47W0cdl — ImperialHal (@ImperialHal) August 24, 2021 Unfortunately, this is a stark reminder of how game-breaking these cheats are becoming, with players seemingly being able to do anything they want. Whether it’s flying, instantly locking onto targets, or teleporting across the map, there seems to be a number of cheat programs that can do anything. It’s especially concerning that the majority of these hackers are terrorizing the higher ranks of play, making it difficult for the best players in the game to progress. Respawn has already promised they’re going to do more to target and ban these hackers, so it’ll be interesting to see what plan of action they decide to put in place.

Apex Legends pro ImperialHal still can’t play because of constant DDoS attacks – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro ImperialHal still can’t play because of constant DDoS attacks TSM/Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro Philip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen is finding it impossible to play Ranked due to targeted DDoS attacks that instantly crash his games. While some Apex Legends players are satisfied with just playing standard matches, others prefer to test their skills against opponents of a similar level and climb the Ranked ladder. Of course, in this competitive environment, squads typically work harder to pick up the victory and attempt to perform at their best for the entire match. Unfortunately, some members of the community prefer to cheat when the stakes are high and at the top ranks, this usually involves targeted DDoS attacks. Apex Legends pro ImperialHal has been on the receiving end of these attacks for multiple months now, and it’s making it impossible for him to play. ImperialHal is getting repeatedly DDoSed in Apex Legends Although hackers and aimbots are frustrating to deal with, DDoS attacks are arguably the worst as they effectively freeze a player’s game and make it impossible to fight back. That’s exactly what’s been happening to ImperialHal and his squad in Ranked recently, with the pro taking to Twitter on January 31 to show how hard it is for him to play. As shown in the clip, the only option for Hal’s teammates is to attempt to grenade themselves to death or they’ll lose the maximum amount of RP. Unfortunately, as the entire match crashing and lagging out due to the attack, it’s hard to use any throwables or even move in a specific direction. Target Ddosing is back in Apex and im loving every second of it! pic.twitter.com/TbKqwj3wjG — ImperialHal (@ImperialHal) January 31, 2022 Despite Respawn’s promises to ramp up the fight against DDoSers and even threatening legal action, the problem continues to persist with pros complaining about constant direct attacks. Preserving the integrity of Ranked is incredibly important as players will have no motivation to climb the ladder if it’s being ruined by DDoSers and cheaters. We’ll have to see if the devs have any plans in the near future to fix the issue but with Season 12 on the horizon, it’s safe to say they’ve got their hands full.

Apex Legends pro ImperialHal slams “horrendous” ALGS point system – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro ImperialHal slams “horrendous” ALGS point system Respawn Entertainment/TSMAfter completing a recent set of ALGS competitive matches, Apex Legends pro Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen has described the league’s point system as “horrendous”. The Apex Legends Global Series has returned for 2021-22 and it’s giving fans a chance to see the best players from around the world take each other on. Although the event has adopted a new pro-league format and there have been no complaints from viewers, some of the pros are not satisfied with the current point system. One of which is TSM’s ImperialHal, who doesn’t understand how his squad has been rewarded two fewer points on the overall leaderboard than Noble, despite reaching the same score as them two weeks in a row. ImperialHal thinks ALGS point system makes “absolutely no sense” While consistently finishing top three in matches will net you points in the ALGS, getting kills is still extremely important, as squads are rewarded with a point for every kill they pick up. This means some teams can die early in a match, but because they’ve eliminated a large number of players, they receive more overall points than squads that survive for longer. Not only that, the system prioritizes overall placement throughout the week, rather than performance on a singular day. So, teams are rewarded a set amount of overall points depending on where they finish at the end of all the matches. It’s this point system that Hal has an issue with, taking to Twitter on October 24 to describe the format as “horrendous” and claiming that it makes “absolutely no sense”. As these weeks for ALGS go, more and more i realize how horrendous this point system is….. for example us and noble have the same amount of total points (88) last 2 weeks but they have 2 more points than us overall. Absolutely no sense — ImperialHal (@ImperialHal) October 24, 2021 This isn’t the only problem Hal has raised when it comes to the ALGS, with the pro arguing that the Kraber should be removed from competitive play completely. As the split is in its early stages, we’ll have to see if Respawn decides to take on the feedback and makes any changes, but it seems unlikely since the league has already begun.

Apex Legends pro ImperialHal shows broken Ultimate bug ruining multiple Legends – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro ImperialHal shows broken Ultimate bug ruining multiple Legends Respawn Entertainment/Twitter: ImperialHalApex Legends pro Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen has showcased a major bug that’s causing Ultimate abilities to randomly disappear as soon as they’ve been used. As with any multiplayer title, Apex Legends has its fair share of bugs and glitches that occasionally affect players’ gameplay. Despite this, the majority of these issues are relatively minor, and sometimes they can even be a positive addition to the game, like the low-gravity bug in the firing range. Of course, this isn’t always the case and some glitches can be extremely frustrating for players, causing them to be eliminated from a match or lose a close gunfight. Well, Apex Legends pro ImperialHal has taken the time to showcase a bug affecting a lot of players in competitive matches that’s causing Ultimate abilities to disappear out of the blue. Major Apex Legends bug is making Ultimates disappear Ultimates are the most impactful abilities in Apex Legends and if they’re used correctly, they can completely swing a gunfight. Whether it’s Gibraltar’s airstrike, Revenant’s totem, or Caustic’s gas, they’re all incredibly powerful. However, when a bug is causing certain Legends to completely lose their Ultimate in gunfights, it’s safe to say it’s an issue Respawn needs to address. To showcase the major glitch, ImperialHal took to Twitter and posted a clip of 100T’s Apex Legends squad in an intense gunfight. After retreating to a building, a Caustic Ultimate was thrown at them and landed directly at their feet, but no gas was emitted. The canister seemingly disappeared out of the blue, leading them to take no damage, and allowing them to stay posted up in the building. So can we talk about how we play a competitive game where ults can just randomly disappear in very important fights??? Gibby ult disappearing, valk ult going under the map (fixed) but now caustic ult???? This needs to be figured out pic.twitter.com/tT9I5kcats — ImperialHal (@ImperialHal) October 9, 2021 According to Hal, this issue has already affected Gibralter, Valkyrie, and now even Caustic has joined the list. In a title where abilities can decide who wins a gunfight, it’s incredibly important the devs identify why this glitch is occurring. This is especially important in pro matches, as it could affect the winner of a tournament, which would sabotage the competitive integrity of the title. It’s hard to know why this is happening as the animation of the canister is still visible in the clip above, it’s just no gas cloud is ever released. Fingers crossed Respawn can get on top of this issue and fix it before it ruins any more matches for players.

Apex Legends pro ImperialHal reveals his top 10 most-played Legends of all time – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro ImperialHal reveals his top 10 most-played Legends of all time Respawn Entertainment/TSMTSM pro ImperialHal has revealed his top 10 most-played Legends in Apex, which might serve as inspiration for your own matches, especially if you’re eager to try out someone new. Everyone has their favorite pick in Apex Legends, but if you’re getting tired of your main and want to try something new, it’s worth looking at the pick rate of some of the world’s best players. You can also use our Legend tier list, for our pick of the overall best Legends to use for most players, regardless of skill level. But, if you have aspirations of being a competitive player, Hal’s favorite Legends may be more to your taste. It is worth remembering that Hal will pick Legends based on what his teammates need, but as a leader and high-frag player, his picks are often a little more focused on letting his individual skill shine. ImperialHal’s Top 10 most-played Legends Revealing his top 10 on Twitter, ImperialHal said he is often asked for this very information. Here is his top 10 in full: Obviously, Wraith is way ahead of the pack, given that Hal was a Wraith main for the majority of his career, and she is a default Legend. However, Horizon, released in Season 7, has already reached number two on his list, showing just how dominant she has been during some phases of the meta. Pathfinder and Octane are almost neck-and-neck, but despite picking Octane more often, Hal actually has more wins and kills with Pathfinder. Other previously meta legends like Valkyrie, Gibraltar and Seer are on the list, but further down. This is primarily because other players on Hal’s teams have played these roles instead. It remains to be seen what Hal’s primary pick for the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs will be, but we’d put our money on Horizon.

Apex Legends pro ImperialHal pleads for deranking to save Ranked matchmaking – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro ImperialHal pleads for deranking to save Ranked matchmaking Respawn EntertainmentTeam SoloMid pro Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen pleaded for Respawn to finally add deranking to Apex Legends as matches keep getting “ruined” by players with “nothing to lose.” Apex has a Ranked League playlist that anyone can queue up for to start winning Ranked Points (RP). With the exception of Master and Apex Predator, every ranked tier has four divisions. While players can get knocked down from different divisions, they cannot rank down from tiers. This is something that ImperialHal and many others think needs to change to save the game. “Please for the love of God allow deranking for stupid Master players and Diamonds,” ImperialHal said. “Completely ruins the gameplay of the game when you have nothing to lose.” Please for the love of God allow deranking for stupid master players and diamonds!!!!!!!!!!! Completely ruins the gameplay of the game when you have nothing to lose……. — ImperialHal (@ImperialHal) July 13, 2021 Plenty of people chimed in after Hal made his request to Respawn. With many high-level players expressing similar sentiments to that of the TSM pro. “4800-7200-10k RP, 2 games of free -RP as a safety net,” TSM teammate Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith said, building on ImperialHal’s idea. “Game 3 gives you a message on screen like ‘Next loss of RP will result in demotion.’ This imo would increase the overall quality of matches for all players, including Solo-queue players and would encourage people to always play to win.” Read more: How to fix Apex Legends Code: Wheel error – Many complaints revolve around people who rank up to certain tiers and drop off almost immediately for time not played or just losing their skill. While rank protection serves to keep players in their tiers for longer, it’s something that some have seen as a problem. Conversely, if there were ranked demotions, especially in higher ranks, it could adversely affect rank queue timers that can already get long. This is a growing issue that Respawn are bound to look into considering it’s starting to be a hot-topic among the Apex Legends community.

Apex Legends pro ImperialHal hints at aim assist nerfs soon: “Just wait for the update” – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro ImperialHal hints at aim assist nerfs soon: “Just wait for the update” Respawn Entertainment / Twitch: ImperialHalApex Legends pro Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen has been an outspoken critic on aim assist in the battle royale. Now, he’s hinting promised nerfs to controller players are on the way, chanting “just wait for the update” for those making the swap from mouse and keyboard. ImperialHal has made his stance on aim assist in Apex Legends very clear in the past: it’s broken and needs to be nerfed. The TSM pro has played around with controller personally, and with more players swapping as of late, it’s only becoming more prevalent. Respawn has been treading water on nerfs for aim assist for some time, but if Hal’s chants have any merit, that long-awaited change could be coming soon in Apex Legends. He was playing with TSM streamer ‘Daltoosh’ and Cloud9 pro Paris ‘StayNaughty’ Gouzoulis Hal took a fight before getting beamed and ultimately falling down to a flanking Wraith. “This game is f**king dogshit bro,” he screamed. “Controller Pathfinder, no audio f**ker behind me. Love it.” “What’s his input device got to do with bro,” Daltoosh said jokingly. However, that only set Hal off: “Just wait for the updates boys. Just wait.” The vague comment caught the ear of his trio partners — both of whom play on controller — and were interested to hear whether Hal knew something they didn’t. “What the f**k does the update have to do with anything? If they nerf aim assist the same players will be on top,” Naughty said. “Was that actually in the patch notes or were you just trolling?” The TSM pro kept his lips sealed, chanting: “I’m not saying sh*t. Stay tuned.” Both Daltoosh and Naughty put it down to Hal being mad about falling to a controller player, but regardless, aim assist nerfs are expected soon. Respawn have acknowledged community sentiment about the different inputs and were evaluating whether nerfs are justified. While nothing has been included in the Season 12 patch notes so far, an update could be just around the corner.

Apex Legends pro ImperialHal gives his verdict on new Storm Point map – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro ImperialHal gives his verdict on new Storm Point map Instagram: tsm_imperialhal, Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro player extraordinaire Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen has given his feedback on Season 11’s new map, Storm Point, now that it’s been live for just over one week. While new Legend Ash has headlined Apex Legends Season 11, the new location, Storm Point, was the other major addition. As players continue to explore the sunbathed paradise, they’re realizing just how big it is. With some arguing that the map’s player cap needs to be increased, the pro players are also looking at things from a competitive point of view. With the likes of former CS:GO pro Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek echoing player concerns over the Apex Games’ tropic battleground, TSM pro and streamer ImperialHal has also weighed in with his early thoughts on the new map. ImperialHal’s rates Storm Point During his November 8 stream, the TSM star straps on his boosters as the iconic Valkyrie and gets ready to drop into the aqua waters of Storm Point. As he and his squad ready up, he takes a moment to answer Twitch chat’s burning question: what does he think of the new map? “I like the map, but at the same point I don’t,” he confesses. “In terms of loot it feels fine, but the areas of the map feel uneven. There are just a lot of spots on the map where it’s like, hard… there’s a lot of power positions on this map, compared to other positions that are just dogs**t compared to it.” Noting that it’s “kind of like Olympus but better because it’s a lot bigger,” he agrees with his chat that “yeah, there’s too much positional disparity, that’s the best way to put it. That’s how I feel about the map.” As Hal continues to explore Storm Point, it’ll be interesting to see whether or not his opinion on Apex’s stunning cyan getaway changes. Either way, we’re pretty sure he’ll continue to dominate the competition. World’s Edge looks likely to remain the favorite among most Ranked players and pros, as it’s the perfect size, and well balanced in terms of POIs and loot. Storm Point will definitely be getting updates from the developers, so it’s still early days, and the map is certainly showing potential already.

Apex Legends pro ImperialHal explains why Kraber should be removed from competitive – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro ImperialHal explains why Kraber should be removed from competitive TSM/Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro player Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen has called for the Kraber to be removed from competitive play and explained why its one-shot potential is unfair. When it comes to Apex Legends highlight reels, there’s one weapon that stands out from the crowd, and that’s the Kraber. This huge and incredibly powerful sniper rifle is capable of one-shotting enemies from any distance with a well-aimed headshot and is obtained through care packages that drop in the late game. Of course, it’s the Kraber’s unrivaled damage at long-range that has made it a heavily debated topic among pro players, with a lot of them arguing for its removal in competitive play. Hoping to draw Respawn’s attention to the issue, TSM pro ImperialHal took to Twitter to explain exactly why the Kraber doesn’t deserve a place in pro matches. Should the Kraber be removed from Apex competitive play? Apex Legends is filled with an array of weapons that are all vastly different from one another, so what makes the Kraber such a contentious topic in competitive play? Well, it all stems from the gun’s ability to one-shot an opponent from a distance, which is not possible with any other weapon in the game. This means in a competitive match, a player can be taken out immediately, without the ability to counter or outplay the Kraber user. On September 6, ImperialHal took to Twitter to raise attention to the issue, in the hopes that Respawn would take note and make the change. If we can remove Heat shields and gold res from comp we can also remove the Kraber from comp too. THIS IS FOR COMPETITVE CASUALS SO DONT GET UPSET AND SHUT UP 👍 — ImperialHal (@ImperialHal) September 7, 2021 Although the majority of the replies agreed with Hal, one Twitter user made the comparison to H1Z1’s 308 sniper, arguing that they think there is a place for a one-shot sniper in Apex. In response, Hal stated that Apex and H1Z1 have incredibly different TTK ratios. While in H1Z1, players can two tap opponents with basic guns, Apex has a lot longer TTK, making the Kraber the outlier and immensely powerful. well in H1 you can two tap with basic guns while the sniper one taps so it isnt that unbalanced however in Apex basic guns dont do that while kraber can one shot you — ImperialHal (@ImperialHal) September 7, 2021 The conversation didn’t end there, with the user suggesting that it may be worth nerfing the Kraber’s damage, rather than removing it from competitive completely. Not only that, they argued that the 308’s one-shot in H1Z1 was game over for the enemy, whereas in Apex, you always have the possibility to revive a teammate. While Hal acknowledged that a nerf to the Kraber could be a solution, he expressed that such a drastic change to an iconic weapon wouldn’t feel right. On top of this, he argued that despite the ability to revive in Apex, there are very few opportunities to do so in a pro match, as opponents will often push if they sense any sign of weakness. i think it would just feel off for damage to be changed for a gun like that , imo from playing comp Apex even tho theres a possibility of being rez’d or respawned its very likely for you to be insta wiped because its usually an opener for a team to push you and once its a 2v3 in — ImperialHal (@ImperialHal) September 7, 2021 Overall, Hal’s tweet led to a healthy debate between two players on both sides of the coin. While the majority of pros agree that the Kraber should be removed, it’s obvious Respawn are reluctant to do so. This could be down to the weapon’s entertainment value, with one-shots always making for great highlight-reel clips. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see whether the competitive organizers agree with Hal, or decide to keep Apex’s deadly sniper in the hands of pro players.

Apex Legends pro ImperialHal claims “busted” CAR SMG is underrated – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro ImperialHal claims “busted” CAR SMG is underrated Respawn Entertainment/TSMApex Legends pro player Philip ‘Imperialhal’ Dosen thinks the CAR SMG often gets overlooked by the community even though it’s an “insane” weapon. Released all the way back in Season 11 of Apex Legends, the CAR seems to have gone under the radar with the majority of players preferring other SMGs on the arsenal. Well, that was until the Volt was placed in the care package pool in Defiance. Now, it seems like the community is starting to use the weapon a lot more, and realizing that the CAR does have a place in the meta. After being asked about the weapon, Apex pro ImperialHal echoed this on his stream, arguing that the CAR is an “insane” gun but as it’s not used by streamers and pros, players falsely believe it’s a bad weapon. ImperialHal thinks the CAR is underrated After being asked about the CAR SMG during his February 21 stream, Hal took the time time to share his opinion on the weapon and its place in the meta. Although he doesn’t think it’s the strongest gun in the game, Hal claims the CAR’s low popularity comes down to the fact that streamers and pros don’t use it very often. According to him, the CAR is “insane” but players will write it off as bad because they don’t see their favorite content creators tearing up Ranked with the gun. Not only that, it’s never been labeled as the top-tier weapon in the meta since its release, so it’s a gun that’ll always be second to choice to other options. So, instead of picking up the R99 or Prowler, it may be time to give the CAR SMG another shot. Although its high fire rate can be unforgiving at times, the gun can pump out a huge amount of damage at close range if you’re willing to learn its recoil pattern. It may not be at the top of the tier list, but the CAR certainly has its place in the meta and now the Volt has gone into the Care Packages, it may finally start receiving a little more attention.

Apex Legends pro ImperialHal calls on devs to fix “big problem” with DDoS attacks – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro ImperialHal calls on devs to fix “big problem” with DDoS attacks Respawn Entertainment/Twitter: ImperialHalAfter being forced to leave multiple matches, Apex Legends pro Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen has called on Respawn to prevent DDoS attacks at high ranks. Like many competitive FPS titles, Respawn is constantly attempting to combat cheaters who are using third-party software to gain an advantage over other players. While Apex doesn’t suffer from as many hackers as Warzone, it’s DDoSers at high ranks that are causing significant issues for the devs. Despite threatening legal action and promising to clamp down on those disturbing the game’s servers, the problem persists. It’s got to the point where pros are calling ranked unplayable at certain times of the day, as shown by Apex pro ImperialHal, who was DDoSed seven matches in a row. ImperialHal is getting DDoSed nonstop in Apex Ranked Taking to Twitter on October 5, Hal showcased how a DDoS attack effectively ends the match and forces him to leave. This not only means he receives a penalty, but he also loses the maximum amount of RP. As highlighted in the video, the servers become so slow that they don’t register movement and freeze the victim in one spot. Describing the DDoSing issue in ranked as a “big problem”, Hal directly tagged the Apex Twitter account to show how bad the situation is getting. Getting ddosed so hard to the point where i cant even throw nades to leave the game or move. Practically forcing me to take a penalty plus -120. This is a BIG problem @PlayApex pic.twitter.com/FfCR3xGU68 — ImperialHal (@ImperialHal) October 5, 2021 If this occurred in a single match, it’d be inconvenient but it certainly wouldn’t be the end of the world. However, according to Hal, these attacks have been happening nonstop on October 5, making it impossible to play the game. turns out im getting stream snipe ddosed almost every game by a single individual 🙂 very fun — TSMFTX ImperialHal (@ImperialHal) October 5, 2021 Hal wasn’t the only pro to comment on the issue, with Tanner ‘Rogue’ Trebb tweeting “#SaveApexRanked” and asking Hal how bad his situation was. In response, Hal revealed that he’d been DDoSed seven games in a row, suggesting that he’s being directly targeted by the attacker. At high ranks, if you’re competing for the tops spots, every match matters, so it’s pointless queueing up just to automatically lose RP. While there’s no simple solution for the DDoSing problem in Apex Legends, it’s obvious the community and pros alike are beginning to lose patience with the issue. Although Respawn has promised to do more, it’s hard to know when they’ll ever have a grasp on the cheaters ruining ranked play. For now, it’s just a waiting game, but with pros unable to queue for ranked, it’s a problem that has to be addressed in the near future.

Apex Legends pro ImperialHal calls for Adderall to be “prohibited” in esports – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro ImperialHal calls for Adderall to be “prohibited” in esports Respawn Entertainment/TSMApex Legends pro player Philip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen has called for Adderall to be “prohibited” in esports and wants organizers to take a stand to create a more “competitive environment”. The popularity of esports has grown exponentially over the last decade, with games including League of Legends, CS:GO, and DOTA 2 attracting increasing viewership. As esports has grown, the prize pools and stakes have risen significantly, with competitions regularly pitting teams against each for 6-figure prize pools. This means some players are willing to do anything to come out on top – including using Adderall for performance enhancements in tournaments. Apex Legends pro ImperialHal has argued organizers need to do more to prohibit Adderall, as it ruins the competitive integrity of events. ImperialHal wants Adderall to be “prohibited” in esports On a stream back in early February, ImperialHal revealed to his viewers how common the use of Adderal is in Apex Legends esports. This shocked a lot of the community, who were unaware the drug was being used widely for performance enhancement. The TSM pro has now gone a step further, calling for the drug to be “prohibited in esports” now some pros are playing for “6+ figure prize pools”. He believes that organizers “should take the initiative and create a better competitive environment”. Adderall is a drug that aids in the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and can be prescribed by a doctor. This means it can be difficult to establish who needs the drug and who is using it to gain an unfair advantage. According to Hal, the substance is a “mental enhancer”, similar to “steroids” for physical sports, and shouldn’t be allowed at events. It remains to be seen whether Hal speaking out about the use of Adderal will spark any change or cause organizers to begin testing players. However, as the drug can be prescribed and is required by certain individuals, it’ll be extremely tough to enforce rules that completely ban the substance. Other tournament organizers have taken steps to curb Adderal use in the past, such as ESL and ESIC in CS:GO.

Apex Legends pro ImperialHal angry as major Ranked bug still hasn’t been fixed – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro ImperialHal angry as major Ranked bug still hasn’t been fixed Respawn Entertainment/TSMApex Legends pro player Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen has voiced his frustration over the Ranked queue bug that stops players from readying up for matches. Apex Legends is a competitive game at its heart and that means players want to get into a match as quickly as possible. However, in order to form squads of a similar skill level, ranked queues tend to take slightly longer than casual matches. While lower-ranked players usually find a game almost instantly, as you progress higher up the ladder, queues get longer and longer. Although this is expected by highly skilled players, a major bug is making the process unbelievably frustrating. Despite promises from the devs to fix the issue, it continues to affect those with long queue times and Apex pro ImperialHal decided to voice his anger on stream. Apex Legends queue bug is forcing players to miss matches When queueing for a match with a squad, every member of the group has to ‘Ready’ up before the game can begin matchmaking. If any player in the party cancels their ‘Ready’ up mid-queue, it will immediately reset. However, a strange bug is randomly forcing players to cancel their ‘Ready’ up seemingly out of the blue. This is affecting highly ranked players the most as they have to sit through five to ten minute queue times. During his September 28 stream, ImperialHal was encountering the bug nonstop and it was forcing him to lose a spot in matches. Describing the ‘Ready’ up process as a minigame in itself, Hal wasn’t happy that the bug has still not been addressed by Respawn. “Let’s go I love sitting in queue for 10 minutes playing a f***ing minigame where I’m just doing this [spam clicks ready up]”. These next 34 days are going to be the hardest days of my life trying to play KC ranked and on top of the BUG WHERE IM STILL GETTING UNREADIED AND MISSING GAMES , I LOVE APEX LEGENDS pic.twitter.com/efOgDU8tqJ — ImperialHal (@ImperialHal) September 29, 2021 Respawn has addressed the bug publically and announced that a fix would be coming in an August patch, but heading into October, the issue is still affecting players. This is clearly a problem Respawn is struggling to solve, so let’s hope a solution is found and implemented in an upcoming patch. While this frustrating bug may not affect the majority of the community, but it’s definitely a huge issue if it’s stopping top-tier players from getting into matches.

Apex Legends pro HisWattson worried it will “end up like Titanfall” amid rampant cheating – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro HisWattson worried it will “end up like Titanfall” amid rampant cheating Respawn / ALGSApex Legends pro Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin has expressed concern that the BR could “end up like Titanfall” amid more cheating problems in the ongoing Season 15. HisWattson has forged a reputation as one of Apex Legends’ most talented players, recently moving out of his trailer as a result of his breakout year on Twitch. Viewers of his Twitch streams will be well accustomed to his honesty, never one to shy away from offering a negative opinion if he believes it’s apt. This approach has even seen him recently banned from ALGS competition after criticizing Respawn developers. However, on November 15, the FURIA pro revealed more concerns about the battle royale in its fifteenth season, saying it could “end up like Titanfall” if issues like cheating are not solved promptly. HisWattson worried Apex Legends will “end up like Titanfall” due to cheating Responding to a tweet from a fellow player who was eliminated by a cheater, McMillin said: “I’m convinced this game doesn’t have any security at this point. Cheaters are allowed to do whatever they want. Ranked just becomes more like arenas every split (completely ignored). People who play ranked at the highest level are thrown aside”. While cheating has existed in past seasons, there have been multiple reports from players that it is especially prevalent in Season 15. We recently saw Xbox Predators accused of DDoSing lobbies in order to secure extra wins. In a second tweet, HisWattson expressed concern that Apex would go the same direction as Respawn’s previous title Titanfall if the problems are not clamped down on soon. “Apex is so f**king good I just don’t want to see it end up like Titanfall,” he said. He is not the first prominent community member to criticize Season 15 and Respawn’s handling of it. TSM’s ImperialHal recently called on the devs to “accept the issues” to save Apex Legends in Season 15. We did see the November 14 patch solve a couple of the game’s most egregious issues – like an invasive freezing bug – but HisWattson clearly wants to see more done to tackle cheating specifically.

Apex Legends pro HisWattson wants OP attachment removed from competitive – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro HisWattson wants OP attachment removed from competitive Respawn EntertainmentHisWattson has called for removing digital threat optics from Apex Legends competitive play, coinciding with Banaglore’s emergence in popularity. Apex Legends Ranked received a major overhaul in the game’s Season 17 update. A new ranking point, scoring system, and the removal of splits highlighted a lengthy list of changes. Community members have not necessarily sung the update’s praises. At the beginning of June, ImperialHal claimed that the game is in the “worst state” that it has ever been at the beginning of June. And players slammed Ranked for being so skewed towards the “Master” Rank. HisWattson has complaints of his own about the current state of competitive Apex Legends, singling out Digital threat optics as being too overpowered. Digital threat optics take over competitive Apex Legends According to the most recent pick rate statistics, Bangalore is Apex’s fourth most popular Legend. A large reason for her uptick in popularity is the Smoke Launcher and digital threat combo. Bangalore’s tactical ability deploys a smokescreen that heavily reduces visibility for 23 seconds. Digital threat optics highlight enemies with a red silhouette even when obscured by smoke or gas. HisWattson argued: “The digital threat should not be in competitive in its current state. It is simply too powerful to be a random spawn.” The pro-Apex Legends player added that some players even opt to use the optic over a legendary sniper. “There are literally pros who would rather have a digital threat than a Kraber,” he tweeted. Other community members sided with HisWattson, as one player argued: “Bangalore’s smoke launcher shouldn’t last 23 seconds.” A second user suggested: “Put 1x digital into the care package permanently but allow it to fit any gun.” Currently, players can loot the 1x digital threat optic as random ground loot but the 4-10x digital sniper three scopes can already only be found in care packages. We will provide an update if the devs make a change. For more, make sure to check the rest of our Apex coverage.

Apex Legends pro HisWattson under fire over leaked messages to hacker and “hating” Respawn dev – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro HisWattson under fire over leaked messages to hacker and “hating” Respawn dev ALGSOne of the top Apex Legends pro players and streamers, Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin, has come under scrutiny from the community after a series of leaked messages he sent to a notorious hacker and leaker. HisWattson was signed to Furia’s professional roster ahead of the ALGS World Championship 2022, where they finished second, and HisWattson was named MVP. However, as well as his skill in the game, McMillin has also earned a reputation for speaking out about the game itself, and has had public spats with Respawn developers in the past. On September 5, tensions between HisWattson and Respawn sparked again. He complained that the security team for Apex Legends was unavailable on weekends, leaving him unable to stream due to targeted attacks against his games. Sparking debate with his post, other professional players and streamers argued that he wasn’t being fair, and that it can’t be expected for developers to work weekends for the sake of one player’s issue. “The devs have lives too,” said streamer Nokokopuffs. “99% of people with your problem would have to submit a ticket and wait/play a game of email tag. Waiting 1-2 days isn’t so bad.” HisWattson messages to hacker leaked The following day, a hacker and leaker in the Apex community shared a screenshot of messages that HisWattson had sent, asking for help with the attacks on his games. “I just know you’re a shady dataminer guy and you responded to both my tweets while not following so I thought you might know what’s going if it’s malicious,” he asked the leaker. When the leaker responded that he should ask Respawn developer ‘Hideouts’, HisWattson responded “I hate hideouts too and I want to clown him on Twitter.” HisWattson responded to confirm the messages were real, and doubled down on his comments. “All of what I said is public information. I hate EA. I hate hideouts (but I usually only go after him specifically when he says something first).” It also appears that the hacker/leaker admits to being responsible for, or having knowledge of, the attacks against HisWattson’s matches. Former Apex Legends pro Snip3down slammed HisWattson for the messages. “Going out of your way to reach out to a known cheater, asking him to help you to ‘mutually benefit’ by fueling your dislike towards EA and a specific member of their team specifically to flame them publicly is 100% out of pocket.” TSM member Albralelie said HisWattson was “speed running a ban from EA sanctioned events.” “You seriously need to start thinking through what you’re doing man.” EA, Respawn, and Hideouts himself have not responded to the leaked messages or response from HisWattson.

Apex Legends pro HisWattson says he’s better than ImperialHal: “I’m the best in the game” – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro HisWattson says he’s better than ImperialHal: “I’m the best in the game” FURIA/Joe Brady (@JOEBRADYPHOTO)Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin has boasted that he believes he is the best Apex Legends player in the world and that he’s better than Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen. When it comes to debating the best player in Apex Legends, there are plenty of factors that go into the thinking behind it. Some fans will opt for the player who has the most kills, others the most wins, and others want the player with the best game sense. The debate has pretty much always boiled down to ImperialHal and HisWattson, with Hal having the achievements – both team and personal accolades – to go along with his impressive skills. HisWattson hasn’t quite achieved what Hal has in ALGS competition but has rocketed up the Ranked leaderboards time and time again. He also has that supreme confidence in believing he’s the best in the game. HisWattson boasts he’s the best Apex Legends player in the world He joined Jon ‘Falloutt’ Kefaloukos on the initial episode of The Apex Experience podcast to talk about his career and his general thoughts on the state of the game. It didn’t take long for the belief about him being the best player around to come up. “Of course,” the FURIA star said when questioned if he believes he’s better than his longtime rival, Hal. “I’m the best player in the game, like, 100%. I’ve thought that for a long time. “I think if I am there, I am the best player in the game. A lot of the time I get bored, don’t show up, and in scrims I’m trolling. If I’m 100%, if I care about what I’m doing, I’m the best player in the game, no questions.” Seeing as Hal has cut back on his playtime in Apex, it may give HisWattson the chance to really lay down a marker and solidify his claim. Though, the debate is still going to rage on, as fans of both players never really back down in supporting their favorite.

Apex Legends pro HisWattson risks it all with “gigachad” Valkyrie & Revenant combo – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro HisWattson risks it all with “gigachad” Valkyrie & Revenant combo Respawn EntertainmentHisWattson has become a household name in the world of pro Apex Legends and it’s largely due to his aggressive playstyle. That’s what made him the perfect teacher for this ultra-aggressive Valkyrie & Revenant combo. There are few players in the world who can match Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin’s aggression in Apex Legends. As a member of FURIA, he nabbed a 2nd place finish at the 2022 ALGS Championship and has generally established himself as one of the best players in the world. Playing alongside this caliber of player can be a bit of an eye-opener even for other talented competitors, and in a recent Ranked game, McMillin showed what it takes to make his signature calculated aggression possible. HisWattson shows off “gigachad” Valkyrie and Revenant combo in Apex Legends The super strategy revolves around isolating a team and then combining Death Totem and Skyward Dive to fly at them with reckless abandon. The gap-closing effect of Valkyrie’s ultimate combined with the automatic reset from Revenant gives the attacking squad all the freedom in the world to land on their targets and cause a lot of chaos before getting whisked back to safety if things get out of hand. The Apex pro demonstrated this beautifully by landing on another team that was attempting to Valk ult away from the incoming nightmare. However, their escape gets cut short thanks to some spot-on shots and what could have been a blunder by the HisWattson’s squad ends up netting them three free kills and a wealth of loot. This was such an over-the-top push that even his teammates were stunned that it actually worked. Of course, this isn’t the kind of play that’s going to work out every time, but when it does pay off, the additional RP (and confidence) can be a sweet reward.

Apex Legends pro HisWattson hits out at devs over invisible bullets – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro HisWattson hits out at devs over invisible bullets ALGSApex Legends pro player HisWattson has called out developer Respawn Entertainment over the invisible bullet tracers and audio bugs affecting competitive play. Season 16 has seen some gameplay-related bugs emerge in Apex Legends. Amongst these bugs are the invisible bullet tracers and broken gun audio that can make identifying the direction of incoming fire more difficult than intended. Several notable Apex players have spoken out against how Respawn has handled bug fixing including TSM’s ImperialHal. As we approach the end of the season, the Apex devs have yet to provide an official response for any of the highlighted bugs. This has pushed Apex pro HisWattson to speak out. HisWattson tells Apex devs to make a statement on invisible bullets bug HisWattson responded to a post by the official Apex Legends Twitter account showing off the new ‘Haute Disguise’ legendary Loba skin. Highlighting a focus on skins over gameplay, HisWattson was frustrated with Respawn not acknowledging the invisible bullet tracers bug. His response reads: “Skin is cool but we are playing for millions of dollars in your Pro League while being shot at by bullets that are invisible and make no sound please make a statement on the issue + Ratio.” The FURIA player followed up with a quote tweet “requesting a ratio,” from Apex players looking to increase visibility on the issue and encourage the devs to take action. The bug HisWattson is talking about was highlighted on April 17 by another pro player, sweetdreams. Sweet posted a video where his team was wiped out by a squad shooting invisible tracers and silent guns. Frustrations with the state of Apex can be seen throughout the community. FaZe Snip3down described the battle royale game as being in “the worst state it’s ever been,” and players have been complaining about issues with the anti-cheat.

Apex Legends pro HisWattson hit with ALGS ban over Respawn beef – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro HisWattson hit with ALGS ban over Respawn beef ALGSApex Legends pro Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin has revealed that he’s banned from playing in the first week of ALGS for Season 15 after he took some shots at Respawn devs. Over the last few months, HisWattson has been thrust into the spotlight of the Apex Legends community as he’s grinded to become one of the top-ranked players in the world – even taking the top spot at times. Though, his rise hasn’t been without some controversy. The FURIA star has, at times, locked horns with Respawn Entertainment developers, and he’s regularly taken shots at Conor ‘Hideouts’ Ford and the Apex security team regarding cheaters. Back in September, DMs from HisWattson to a notorious Apex hacker surfaced on Twitter, with the FURIA pro asking for help to address the attacks on his games. When pointed in the direction of Hideouts, the Apex star stated that he “hates” the dev and wanted to “clown” him. HisWattson reveals temporary ban from ALGS play Following that, McMillin claimed that he had been “blacklisted” by EA from competing in certain tournaments, but he’s now also been hit with a temporary suspension from ALGS play. The FURIA pro revealed the news at the conclusion of his November 6 stream, when he shocked with fans with the news that they wouldn’t see him in competitive play for a week. “I got banned for a week. I will be playing week 2! Why did I get banned? Because I made a tweet where I was talking bad about a company and I got banned,” the streamer said. “Anyways, I can play week 2, just can’t play week 1.” The second round of ALGS play for FURIA, who are in Pool B, starts on November 13th so it won’t be long before HisWattso is back on the sticks with his teammates. They’ve already managed to pick up a handful of points in his absence, so they’ll have something to build on in his return.

Apex Legends pro HisWattson hit with account ban – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro HisWattson hit with account ban Joe Brady (@joebradyphoto)/ALGSApex Legends pro Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin has been hit with a temporary account ban that appears to have been handed out for a chat message. FURIA pro HisWattson has garnered a reputation in the Apex Legends community for his outspoken attitude when it comes to cheaters, the meta, and the overall direction of Respawn’s battle royale. While this has landed him in trouble in the past, it’s also one of the reasons why he’s such a popular figure among the player base. Well, HisWattson has been punished once again but this time with a temporary account. HisWattson receives a 3-day Apex Legends account ban Taking to Twitter on March 8, HisWattson revealed that EA had hit his account with a 3-day ban for violating “EA’s terms of service”. This left Wattson extremely confused, with the pro simply tweeting “I don’t really know what just happened”. Unfortunately, the ban didn’t come with an explanation, but a Reddit thread discussing the incident on r/CompetitiveApex revealed that “they found out during scrims that he caught an automated ban for a joking exchange with Xera during ranked (typed f**k you in response to Xera’s big fan comment in chat).” This was later confirmed by Wattson on Twitter, who was clearly frustrated that the insult was intended as a joke towards a teammate, as he was “in a 3 stack”. Either way, the automatic detection system in the chat picked up on his comment and handed out a 72-hour ban to his account. This has sparked a wider debate in the comments of the tweet over whether such harsh suspensions should be handed out for typing insults in the chat. For now, Wattson will just have to wait out the punishment and can jump back onto his account in 3 days.

Apex Legends pro HisWattson gives away $25k of Twitch earnings to his fans – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro HisWattson gives away $25k of Twitch earnings to his fans Twitter: HisWattsonApex Legends pro player Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin has confirmed the donation of $25,000 in Twitch advertising revenue to his community, much of it in gaming PCs. HisWattson has exploded in popularity across 2022, becoming one of Apex Legends’ most followed creators and competitors. While he has expressed concerns over Apex Legends’ future, his exponential growth has been seriously impressive. We saw McMillin move out of his long-term trailer home, attributing the move to the support he’s received from the community and subsequent Twitch revenue. As part of his willingness to give back, he recently pledged $25,000 of his Twitch income to his community. Now, he’s shared more details on the heartwarming giveaway. HisWattson confirms $25k donations Back in October, Wattson said: “Have decided that I will be running ads on my channel and spending it on giving gaming equipment to people in my community who can’t afford to buy it themselves.” He recently provided another update, confirming the donations and thanking MSI USA for handling the logistics. “Small update on this,” he said. “[I] have about 20 grand worth of PCs that should be going out soon. Didn’t end up spending it all on PCs. Donated 5k to fund a BIPOC tournament, donated 4k to help someone’s dog get surgery, and bought christmas presents for some kids.” He even announced one final giveaway to the public, giving them the chance to win a $2,000 PC. Unsurprisingly, the streamer has received widespread praise for his actions. One viewer said: “Guy literally just moved out of a trailer & he’s already donating so much to give back to the community. Another legendary moment to his incredible year.” Fans can catch McMillin dominating Apex Legends on his Twitch channel, where he’s rapidly approaching half a million followers.

Apex Legends pro HisWattson finds OP rat spot on Broken Moon map – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro HisWattson finds OP rat spot on Broken Moon map HisWattsonApex Legends pro player HisWattson has discovered an incredibly devious rat spot on the Broken Moon map, one that’s OP enough that it may get patched out of the game entirely. Despite being in the wild for a long time now, players are still discovering new ways to get around on Broken Moon. While there aren’t movement secrets like Octane’s jump pad spots on Olympus, some hidden areas allow players who have mastered the map to make some big outplays. Apex Legends pro player HisWattson has discovered one of the most devious rat spots yet, one where it’s near impossible to be discovered. HisWattson discovers OP Broken Moon rat spot in Apex Legends Rat spots are, love them or hate them, a key part of Apex Legends. For those who don’t have enough loot or healing items, finding a place to lie in wait while your opponents fight it out can be the key to victory. That said, most rat spots on other maps are known. And, if you get discovered, enemies can toss grenades in to flush you out. There’s a bit of risk/reward involved. However, HisWattson has discovered a rat spot that’s so overpowered it avoids much of the risk and almost purely rewards players who know how to take advantage of it. On a specific part of Broken Moon that has updrafts to protect players from falling off the map, it’s possible to hide yourself under a bridge. You’ll never be found against players who aren’t looking for it. And, even if someone knows you’re down there, finding an angle to shoot someone who’s under the bridge is easier said than done. That makes this one of the most fool-proof rat spots in Apex Legends. Take advantage of this while you can, because it wouldn’t be surprising to see this get patched out of the game.

Apex Legends pro HisWattson finally moves out of trailer after breakout year as streamer – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro HisWattson finally moves out of trailer after breakout year as streamer HisWattson, TwitterApex Legends professional player HisWattson has announced he’s finally leaving his trailer home behind, thanking fans for their support in what’s been a breakout year for the streamer. HisWattson has been streaming full-time on Twitch since July, with his channel having experienced significant growth thanks to his performances in the Apex pro scene. The FURIA content creator was not very well known over 12 months ago, yet managed to burst onto the scene by achieving No.1 Apex Predator rank in the world. After solidifying his status as what many would consider being FURIA’s best player in 2022, signing to compete in the world championships, he now averages around 6,000 viewers per broadcast. Apex Legends streamer HisWattson has moved out The whole time, he’s been picking up all these Ws from a trailer – but no longer. On November 2, he moved to thank his community for their support, confirming that he’s moved out and will no longer be living in a trailer. “Moving out today,” he tweeted. “Just want to say thank you to everyone for your support and making my dreams a reality!” The Twitter post has racked up over 9,000 likes, at the time of writing, with many wishing him well in his new home. ImperialHal sent his regards, saying: “Trailer man to Florida man!” FaZe Blaze added: “Nothing better than seeing someone’s life change because of a video game. Congrats brotha, well deserved.” G2 Gent tweeted: “Apartment debuff gonna go crazy!” Those are just a handful of warm messages sent by members of the Apex Legends community, and beyond, for HisWattson – and it just goes to show the opportunities of building up an audience on Twitch… Which is no easy task.

Apex Legends pro HisWattson explains why hated ring changes are actually good – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro HisWattson explains why hated ring changes are actually good PlayApexEsports | Twitter/Apex LegendsApex Legends players have been complaining about the Season 14 ring changes. From pros to casuals, it’s hard to find a positive opinion. But Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin is one of few in favor of the changes. Apex Legends Season 14 came with a whole slew of gameplay changes, many of which have been positively received. But the ring changes have been a hot topic in the community. A vast majority of players at every skill level feel like the ring changes were a mistake, but FURIA player HisWattson thinks these changes are a big step in the right direction. Ring changes are hitting Apex Legends pro play hard C9 Zach ‘Zach’ Mazer put out a tweet that shed light on how much the seemingly minor ring changes have affected pro play. According to him, the “edge playstyle” is disappearing from high-level play. In the replies, HisWattson defends the changes and claims “it’s better now than it was before” and that, “You shouldn’t be able to sit in the zone for 5+ minutes”. C9’s Jamison ‘PVPX’ Moore certainly didn’t agree. He isn’t “asking for a revert”, but said the current ring is not okay. And, while Zach agreed with HisWattson’s sentiment on not having players be able to sit in ring for minutes at a time, neither of C9’s players are very happy with the changes. You’d be hard-pressed to find a fully positive opinion of the ring changes from an Apex Legends pro, but HisWattson is one of the few to speak out in favor of the Season 14 ring. Winning Apex Legends pro games in a different way Out of all the Apex Legends pro teams, FURIA is the most aggressive team statistically speaking. They tend to take as many fights as they can, a playstyle that differs greatly from most other pros. Scott ‘Pandxrz’ Maynard, HisWattson’s teammate, had the most eliminations in the event, and FURIA always topped the kill charts. Meanwhile, HisWattson earned MVP at the event for his performance despite FURIA getting second place overall. FURIA don’t tend to win games by sitting back and playing the edge of the ring; they take every fight they can and take wins through brute force. The Season 14 ring changes force teams to get into the circle fast, and they cause big fights to break out much earlier than before. And, considering that’s how FURIA played before the ring changes, HisWattson’s fairly unique perspective on the topic lines up with how he plays.

Apex Legends pro HisWattson explains why ALGS scrims are useless – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro HisWattson explains why ALGS scrims are useless Respawn Entertainment/Twitch: HisWattsonFURIA pro Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin believes that Apex Legends scrims will “never” be good for helping ALGS teams improve. While Apex Legends pro players can practice their mechanics, gun skills, and strategies in Ranked, it’s still a completely different environment when compared to competitive matches. As a result, a lot of teams organize scrims which allow pro squads to come together and practice against each other as a collective. These give teams a chance to test out unique strategies, contest landing spots, or just work on their coordination. While a lot of pros see the value in scrims, FURIA star HisWattson explained on stream why he thinks they’re useless and don’t help teams improve. HisWattson claims ALGS scrims do not improve teams During his stream on January 26. HisWattson explained to his viewers why scrims in Apex Legends will “never be good” for helping teams improve. According to him, as Apex is a battle royale that hosts 20 different teams in a single lobby, it’s possible to “lose, and it genuinely not be your fault”. This is different for 1v1 games, where it’s easy to identify your mistakes. As a result, he argues that some Apex pros “use that as an excuse” and don’t look to improve their gameplay. Instead, choosing to blame their losses on problems in matches that are “out of their control”. In his experience, most “people don’t lose scrims and go wow, we should play better”, they prefer to say “we got griefed” or “this team contested us, they’re stupid”. For him, this attitude towards scrims where the majority of teams “don’t care” about the result, makes them a poor environment for improving as a squad.

Apex Legends pro HisWattson completes snipers-only Bronze to Master challenge – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro HisWattson completes snipers-only Bronze to Master challenge Respawn Entertainment/Twitch: HisWattsonApex Legends pro Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin has completed a Ranked challenge that involved him climbing from Bronze to Master only using snipers. While a huge portion of the Apex Legends community plays Ranked, only a select few have the skills to reach Master and Predator. Hitting these tiers requires impressive guns kill, top-tier game knowledge, and the ability to coordinate with your squad effectively. Well, FURIA pro HisWattson certainly checks all of the boxes above, and consistently sits in Predator, even hitting rank one back in June 2022. So, to make Ranked more of a challenge for himself, Wattson decided to attempt a solo queue climb from Bronze to Masters only using snipers, and he’s finally reached his goal. HisWattson hits Master in Apex Legends using snipers only Taking to Twitter on January 26, HisWattson revealed that he’d finished his Bronze to Masters solo queue challenge using only snipers. Completing the achievement on a fresh account called Sniperman, Wattson reached a total level of 56 and accrued over 375 sniper kills. Not only that, the sharpshooter managed to rack up 2,582 headshots and reached a total RP of 15,190. This is extremely impressive, as any squads that decided to push him aggressively had a huge advantage over him at close quarters with ARs and SMGs. Navigating endgame rings also required precise aim, as a missed shot with a sniper can spell instant death if a foe is using a CAR, R-301, or Flatline. Hopefully, Wattson sets another challenge for himself in the near future, as climbing to Predator with no restrictions is becoming far too easy for the FURIA pro.

Apex Legends pro HisWattson claims matchmaking is designed to make players fail – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro HisWattson claims matchmaking is designed to make players fail SteamAn Apex Legends player has released a video detailing why the game doesn’t use skill-based matchmaking, but is intentionally sabotaging matches. Since the release of Apex Legends in 2019, the issue of Skill-Based Matchmaking has been a topic of debate in the community. Simple referred to as SBMM, many players feel the system brings down the experience for all players by catering to the casual crowd too much. But now, an Apex Legends player has released a video to discuss how SBMM actually doesn’t exist anymore, but the game does use a system that is intentionally sabotaging matches. Apex Legends player is accusing the devs of intentionally sabotaging games The controversy started when HisWattson made a lengthy tweet about how Apex Legends’ matchmaking actually works, claiming that Apex Legends uses Engagement-optimized matchmaking (EOMM) rather than skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) to form lobbies. As a result, the player’s actual skill level takes a back seat to the idea of starting players in lobbies against weaker players so they perform well at first. Then, over time, the player begins to become one of the weaker players in a stronger player’s lobby, keeping them playing and chasing the high from prior wins. “Apex Legends trios and duos DOES NOT use sbmm (skill-based matchmaking) it uses eomm (engagement-optimized matchmaking) EA has a patent for this and it is presumably used in all their games.” HisWattson claims. “It does not care about putting you against your own skill level, it wants to dictate when you succeed and when you fail in a way that will keep your brain engaged for as long as possible.” This prompted a video from ohdoughplays, which was released on Tik Tok originally, and his explanation of the “evil” matchamking system made waves there and on the Apex Legends subreddit, where it was posted to ask the community if what the player was saying is true. This is a system that, instead of putting people in a match with other players with the same rank or skill level as them, it will purposefully put you in a lobby with players of a lower skill to make winning a rarity in the game for all but the most elite players. He claims that the devs will “actually sabotage your games” in an effort to make players have to earn a win in a more difficult way. A lot of the community is agreeing with it as well, with one user explaining: “What he says definitely resonates with my Apex Experience.” Many fans are even claiming this system in place in other games as well, with one person saying, “It is true and it’s everywhere in gaming now. The longer you’re engaged the higher the chance you will be willing to spend money in the store.” It appears that the community believes that by making winning harder to accomplish, players are more likely to spend more time playing the game, which will then cause them to buy more cosmetics and items from the in-game stores. There is no official confirmation about whether or not this is a system that Respawn has put in the game, but there is clearly something bothering the Apex Legends community about how the matchmaking runs.

Apex Legends pro HisWattson claims he is “blacklisted” by EA after hacker controversy – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro HisWattson claims he is “blacklisted” by EA after hacker controversy ALGSApex Legends pro Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin has claimed EA has started “blacklisting” him from tournaments and certain competitions, following comments he made on social media. FURIA pro HisWattson faced criticism after a set of messages were leaked where he messaged an Apex Legends hacker directly, asking for help with the attacks on his games. Also during the conversation, the pro revealed that he “hates” the head of security at Respawn, Hideouts, claiming he wants to “want to clown him on Twitter”. This was met with backlash from fellow pros and content creators in the community, with Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith going as far to say HisWattson was “speed running a ban from EA sanctioned events”. Well, according to HisWattson, EA’s “blacklisting” following the drama has already begun, with him being banned from competing in a tournament at Twitch con. This has resulted in a lot of frustration from HisWattson who doesn’t understand why he’s being “punished”. He claims that these attacks “stop me from doing my job” so it’s difficult for him to stand by and remain silent. Philip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen replied to the tweet asking whether HisWattson had been blacklisted from all competitions. However, the FURIA pro revealed that for now his spot in the ALGS hadn’t been affected, but he was being banned from other tournaments. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see whether EA decides to take any further action against HisWattson in the future. Neither EA nor Hideouts have responded publicly to the drama, so the official stance on the situation is unclear. Either way, HisWattson has made it clear from this tweet that the backlash will not stop him from continuing the criticize EA.

Apex Legends pro HisWattson completes insane challenge to hit Masters – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro HisWattson completes insane challenge to hit Masters EA, HisWattsonPro Apex Legends player HIsWattson managed to run a Solo Queue from Bronze to Masters under incredibly wild circumstances. Solo Queuing all the way to Masters is no easy feat; the long grind requires users to play at the top of their game from start to finish. Of course, this means those who take on such a challenge will often find themselves battling some of Apex Legends’ most skilled players. Pros like HisWattson have their playstyle down to a science as a result. The Apex veteran proved as much upon recently overcoming an incredibly difficult challenge. HisWattson impresses with latest Apex Legends challenge The newest Ranked challenge that Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin took on saw him climb from Bronze to Masters with limited tools at his disposal. For one, the Solo Queue attempt featured none of the following – Armor, Back, Helmet, or Knockdown shield. Suffice it to say, HisWattson entered the challenge with his work cut out for him. He managed just fine with Loba, though. The popular Apex Legends player revealed as much in the following Twitter post. “That’s why he’s the GOAT,” wrote the Furia USA account in response to HisWattson’s tweet. Several other commentators pointed out that the Apex pro is simply “built different.” It’s not the player’s first time leaving fellow Apex Legends veterans in awe. Less than a couple of months ago, HisWattson climbed from Bronze to Masters by exclusively using snipers. At this rate, there’s no telling what HisWattson may have up his sleeve for whatever Solo Queue challenge comes next. But given his track record, it’s almost guaranteed that fans will want to pay attention.

Apex Legends pro HisWattson calls aim assist “unfair” & wants controller banned in comp – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro HisWattson calls aim assist “unfair” & wants controller banned in comp Joe Brady (@joebradyphoto)/ALGSThe never-ending debate about the imbalance between controller and keyboard & mouse players continues to rage on in Apex, sparked once again by HisWattson claiming aim assist is unfair, and not fit for a competitive game. There has been a renewed focus on the advantages of controller players, partly sparked by pro player Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith temporarily switching to controller, and the prevalence of controller players at ALGS tournaments. While there are obvious drawbacks to the limited buttons and aiming with a toggle rather than a mouse, it’s believed that the strength of aim assist is enough to make up for this – something Jacob ‘HisWattson‘ McMillin believes too. HisWattson claims aim assist is “unfair” in Apex Amid the debate, HisWattson posted a lengthy Twitter thread to give his view. As one of the best players in the world, his take has made an instant impact. “I’m gonna keep it a buck. From a competitive standpoint, aim assist is unfair and unfun to play against,” he said. “How is it fair that it takes me ~200 ms to react to enemy movement but my opponent has a computer that reacts for them in 0ms.” He continued, arguing that if Apex wants to be truly competitive, controller should be banned from competitive play. “Controller has a lower skill ceiling, lower skill expression, and is so bad for aiming they had to make it do 40% of tracking for you just so it would be useable. I don’t care if people play on controller but if you think that controller doesn’t make the game significantly less competitive then Idk what to tell you.” Despite this, he did clarify that he still believes mouse & keyboard is the superior input overall. But, regardless, argues that controller players lower the skill gap of the game. Apex caster Jon ‘Falloutt’ Kefaloukos agreed that controller was not the most competitive option, but that Respawn is prioritizing inclusivity over competitiveness: “Apex wants to make their game as inclusive as possible, while still offering a fun competitive experience. Thus we ended up here.” While many players agreed with HisWattson’s view, there was unsurprisingly a lot of disagreement too. Some argued that it was “gate-keeping” and a “superiority complex” from keyboard & mouse players. Respawn has mentioned the issue of aim assist infrequently, with the last significant comment on it from developers back in 2021. At the time, they said they would “evaluate whether or not aim assist is ‘too good’.” Since then, however, there have been no significant updates to aim assist values, and so, the debate continues.

Apex Legends pro hails TSM star: “Best player in the world” – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro hails TSM star: “Best player in the world” EAApex Legends pro player for Pioneers, Casper ‘Gnaske’ Præstensgaard, put out a ‘hot take’ for the community, arguing TSM’s Evan “Verhulst” Verhulst is currently the “best Apex player in the world.” The debate of who is the best player in Apex Legends has sprung up again thanks to Gnaske. The veteran esports player put on Twitter that he thinks TSM’s Verhulst is the best pro in the world and listed off various reasons why. Gnaske said the 20-year-old player has the skills, a professional mindset, is hardworking, stays in shape, and stays humble. “Apart from being a good player, he’s possibly the best teammate to have,” Gnaske added – although did clarify other than his own teammates. TSM Verhulst hailed as best Apex Legend player Verhulst is a relatively new player to the Apex Legends scene. He started competing in 2021 and quickly rose to prominence on Team Intel and Esports Arena. He eventually signed with TSM at the end of 2021, earning a spot on a top Apex Legends squad with Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen after only six months of competitive experience. With TSM, Verhulst has placed first at the 2022 ALGS North American Split 1 Playoffs, sixth at the Split 2 Playoffs, seventh at the 2022 ALGS Championship, and the team recently won the 2023 ALGS Spilt 1 Playoffs. The Apex Legends community seemed to mostly agree with Gnaske’s opinion on Verhulst, with some calling the 20-year-old even better than ImperialHa, who is typically given more of the spotlight. The veteran TSM player was named MVP of the 2023 Split 1 Playoffs and has been considered one of the best players in the esport for years now. Others also agreed that the Verhulst is humble for his age and still has room to grow. Right now, TSM are the consensus best team in the game, with two players that might be the greatest of all time, not only in their positions, but overall.

Apex Legends pro grinds from Rookie to Predator in single Twitch stream – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro grinds from Rookie to Predator in single Twitch stream EAAfter a 37 hour long stream, Australian Apex Legends pro player Wxltzy managed to grind from Rookie to Predator. And he did it playing on over 150 ping. iiTzTimmy has managed to do multiple bronze to max rank runs so far in his twitch career, accomplishing this feat in both Valorant and Apex Legends. These feats inspired OCE pro Ben ‘Wxltzy’ Walton to do the same. And, after almost two days of streaming, Wxltzy locked in a time of 37 hours and 13 minutes to get from Rookie to Predator. His Rookie to Predator run was fraught with server issues and long queue times, but he persevered and managed to finish the run on a high note. According to Jake Lucky, he had a conversation with Wxltzy about this feat where it was revealed that there was more to this challenge than just grinding out ranks. When getting into higher ranks, queue times in OCE started getting hilariously long. If you exclude the almost 5 hours worth of time he spent waiting in queue, Wxlty’s time would be around 32 hours. The fact that Wxltzy pulled this off while playing on almost 200 ping just adds to this incredible feat. Wxltzy proved just how good he is back in the ALGS, where he and two other teammates on Team Burger made it to the Grand Finals without having an official esports org sponsoring them. This OCE pro is doing everything he can to make a name for himself in one of esports’ smallest regions, and Wxltzy’s making a great case for just how good a player he is. It’s worth mentioning that the ranked system has changed since Timmy’s attempt, and kills and assists no longer have diminishing returns on RP once you rack up enough kill participation. With Wxltzy setting an official time of 37 hours and 13 minutes with the slightly changed Season 14 ranked system, the stage is open for someone to try and beat this incredible record.

Apex Legends pro Gnaske claims TSM fans sent “death threats” over landing spots – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Gnaske claims TSM fans sent “death threats” over landing spots Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Pioneers pro Casper ‘Gnaske’ Præstensgaard has claimed TSM fans sent “death threats” over his team’s choice of landing spot on Storm Point. In the ALGS, Apex Legends pro squads typically pick a POI for each map that they consistently land at for every single match. This allows them to learn the area inside out, giving them the best chance at securing the best loot and picking up the victory. Well, on Storm Point, both TSM and Pioneers opted to choose The Wall as their designated location. However, after consistently falling short against ImperialHal, Reps, and Verhulst, Pioneers had to admit defeat and change spots. Taking to Twitter on January 11, Gnaske officially announced that Pioneers would not be defending their POI against TSM anymore. Describing TSM as “(arguably) the strongest team in the world”, the pro admitted that they are “simply too strong” to takedown at the start of a match. While announcing the news, the Pioneers captain did reveal that the “harassment” and “death threats” from TSM fans didn’t make the decision any easier. Although they “figured it would happen” given the size of the organization and its passionate fanbase, it’s clear Gnaske didn’t appreciate the backlash about contesting a landing spot. Despite this, Gnaske has made it known that the hate from TSM fans is not the reason they’re leaving The Wall, and “if anything [he’d] love to continue contesting to make [them] mad.” TSM pro Reps responded to Gnaske’s tweet, saying “sorry for any hate received” and that he wishes he “could guarantee there would never be any hate but we can’t control the mass idiots”. Despite the rivalry between the two squads, Reps revealed that he’s “always respected [them] and none of [them] deserve to get any hate for landing in the same spot you’ve been forever”. Both teams will meet and compete against each other again at the ALGS Year 3 Split 1 playoffs in London on February 2. Now Pioneers have changed their strategy and landing spot, it’ll be interesting to see whether it helps or hinders them in the upcoming event.

Apex Legends pro Genburten shows why Lifeline is so underrated – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Genburten shows why Lifeline is so underrated Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Twitch streamer and pro player Noyan ‘Genburten’ Ozkose has shown why Lifeline is an underrated pick in Season 14. When it comes to supports in Apex Legends, there’s only one character that fits the traditional healer role, and that’s Lifeline. While this has made her a relatively popular pick in the Outlands since the game’s launch, a lot of the community feels that the Combat Medic is outdated and needs a full rework. Although a set of buffs arrived for Lifeline in the Awakening Collection event that boosted the power of her Tactical and Ultimate, there are still rumblings from players that Respawn needs to do more. Well, according to Genburten, Lifeline is an extremely strong pick in Season 14 and the reason is being overlooked by a lot of the community. Genburten thinks Lifeline is strong in Apex Legends Season 14 Genburten’s viewers have noticed the pro has been playing a lot of Lifeline in Season 14, and the talented player finally decided to share why. During a recent stream presented by NoobHunterApex, Genburten explained that he’s not using the Combat Medic for her res or care package. He’s actually “abusing Lifeline’s hitbox” which makes it incredibly hard for opponents to land shots on him, and makes it easy for him to make outplays. It’s clear this strategy is working for Genburten as he described Lifeline as “goated” and the “meta” in Season 14. Topic starts at 0:08 Of course, Lifeline’s hitbox is not her only strength, and Genburten showcased this in another clip with a clutch res. Realizing he was caught in a choke and about to go down, he managed to get off her Tactical and start reviving his teammate. This resulted in them wiping out the enemy squad and allowed them to continue looking for the win in their match. If he wasn’t playing the Combat Medic, it’s unlikely any other character on the roster would have been able to outplay the situation. So, before you disregard Lifeline in Season 14, it may be time to put in some practice with her and test her out in a few of your matches. Who knows, before long, you could be solo-carrying games with the Combat Medic and pulling off clutch revives just like Genburten.

Apex Legends pro Genburten claims Havoc is OP for PC players – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Genburten claims Havoc is OP for PC players Genburten/RespawnApex Legends pro player Noyan ‘Genburten’ Ozkose has explained why the Havoc is overpowered on PC, but lackluster for console players. Over the years, Respawn has added countless weapons to Apex Legends and every single player has their favorite. Whether it’s the easy-to-control R-301 Carbine, the powerful burst damage of the CAR SMG, or the long-range lethality of the Longbow, the Outlands is filled with an array of deadly weapons. Of course, they’ll always be top tier picks in the meta and the Havoc has stood out as one of the best guns in Season 14. Despite this, pro player Genburten has demonstrated a flaw with the Havoc that makes it unbalanced, as in his opinion, it’s OP on PC but underwhelming on console. Genburten shows why controller limits the Havoc’s power When it comes to recoil stability on controller, there are very few players in the Apex community that can match Genburten. However, on a recent stream, the talented player showcased how difficult it is to control the kickback of the Havoc on controller compared to PC. Complaining that his “thumbs can’t handle” the recoil, Genburten concluded that the Havoc is simply “not a controller gun”. It’s also obvious he feels that it’s unfair for MnK players to have such a big advantage over controller when it comes to the Havoc’s damage output: “You call this balanced?” Topic starts at 0:59 As the Havoc is one of the most powerful guns in the game, it’ll be interesting to see if Respawn makes any changes to the weapon to make it easier for controller players. Either way, the deadly energy AR is always a solid pick up if you can handle its recoil, but if you’re a controller player, it may be worth opting for another gun if you want to land more damage at long-range.

Apex Legends pro shares extensive list of crucial map rotations – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro shares extensive list of crucial map rotations Respawn EntertainmentThere are tons of ways of getting around in Apex Legends and one player saw there were extremely valuable rotations, tricks and hiding spots not normally used, leading him to share his knowledge with the community. Apex Legends is a fast and fluid battle royale experience that frequently rewards players who creatively mix up their movements, be it in chaotic firefights or making effective rotations around Kings Canyon. There are tons of tools dispersed around the Apex Games arena to help teams get around the map quicker or to find shortcuts that aren’t easily discovered, which greatly improves the entire squad’s mobility. Apex Legends players could use intuitive map rotations to get the step on an enemy team. In a long Twitter thread, battle royale pro Dakota ‘Exko’ MacLeod was surprised that he wasn’t seeing a lot of players taking advantage of the map and decided to let the community in on some of the more helpful strategies. “Alright so I found some spots a few months ago that are nuts and aren’t used in comp,” Exko said. “I was saving them but honestly i’d rather see them used than not. While there were some rotations that make use of an Octane or Pathfinder, they’re really useful to be aware in case a team gets caught on the wrong side of the circle. Although there are some tips and tricks in the thread that are really situational, they could prove to be invaluable for the more confident risk takers in the Apex Games. Apex Legends pro dizzy shows off insane movement exploit – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro dizzy shows off insane movement exploit Respawn EntertainmentWidely regarded as one of the very best Apex Legends players in the world, Coby ‘dizzy‘ Meadows has uncovered a ridiculous new movement exploit that makes you nearly unkillable in the new Season 2 building. Dizzy rose to Twitch stardom shortly after the launch of Apex Legends, after he broke the world record for most kills in a single match. His incredible aim is the main reason for his skill, but his game knowledge and movement cannot be understated, as evidenced by this new zipline trick. Players quickly realized that jumping on and off a zipline quickly would give a big boost of momentum, so when dizzy saw two ziplines opposite each other in the new construction building added in Season 2, he immediately devised a sneaky manoeuvre. By bouncing between the two ziplines, dizzy was able to move at such a speed that the enemy awaiting him at the top could hardly land a bullet on him. Meanwhile, dizzy was able to easily mow down his opponent, while using the zipline exploit to dodge out of the way of fire when needed. The trick might take some lesser experienced players time and effort to master, but can easily be replicated in this spot. Since the zipline movement exploit was first discovered with a single zipline in June, and Respawn haven’t made any changes since, it appears that there are no plans to implement a nerf. Dizzy is currently representing NRG, and will no doubt be gearing up for the $500,000 Apex Legends invitational, now under a month away on September 13. Even if professional Apex Legends doesn’t pan out however, dizzy has now built up a large following as a streamer, with fans consistently impressed with his skills.

Apex Legends pro Dizzy reveals surprising weapons tier list – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Dizzy reveals surprising weapons tier list As Apex Legends starts to settle into a comfortable meta following the game’s release on February 4, pro players are beginning to decide which weapons are the best and which ones need some major work. As is the case with every battle royale game, there are a diverse set of weapons to choose from in Apex Legends. From sniper rifles and pistols to shotguns and assault rifles, there is something in the game for just about every playstyle. That being said, however, there are some weapons that stand head and shoulders above the rest and some that are just plain bad (we’re looking at you, Mozambique). As such, NRG Esports’ Coby ‘dizzy’ Meadows has released his first official weapons tier list, and it features some surprising selections. If you’ve seen any of dizzy’s gameplay, you’d know that he really fancies using the Wingman. Somewhat surprisingly, however, he’s listed it as the best weapon in the entire game. S-Tier: Wingman, Mastiff, Kraber – A-Tier: Spitfire, Flatline, Peacekeeper, EVA-8, R-99 – B-Tier: G7 Scout, Longbow, Devotion, Hemlok, Prowler, R-301 – C-Tier: Alternator, RE-45, Triple Take – F-Tier: P2020, Mozambique – While many might agree that it’s incredibly good, the fact that he put it above the Mastiff and Kraber, the only two legendary weapons currently in the game, might come as a shock to some. Elsewhere in his list, Dizzy puts the EVA-8 right behind the Peacekeeper, another somewhat surprising ranking given how strong many feel the Peacekeeper is at the moment. Rounding out his A-Tier are the Spitfire, Flatline, and R-99, which are all widely accepted as some of the best weapons in the game. To the surprise of just about no one, the Mozambique is one of just two weapons to fall into the dreaded F-Tier, joined by the P2020. Dizzy might have been the first pro player to release an official tier list, but surely many more will follow suit very soon as the Apex Legends meta continues to develop. With Apex Legends yet to receive a major balance patch at this point in its short lifespan, there’s no telling what the meta will look like once that patch over the next few weeks.

Apex Legends pro Dizzy mocks Respawn over lack of new content – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Dizzy mocks Respawn over lack of new content EANRG pro Coby ‘Apex Legends fans a painful reminder of just how long it has been since the devs added new content, with a snappy response to Respawn’s May 16 post. If there is one primary criticism about Apex Legends among the fanbase, it’s the slower updates and new content when compared to other games in the battle royale genre, namely Fortnite Battle Royale. Many players complained about the underwhelming Battle Pass after having to wait for Season 1. Some who play daily will have already completed their Battle Pass by this point too, and are left waiting until June before Season 2 drops. Apex Legends content has dried up Respawn revealed players would be getting information about Season 2 during E3 2019, leaving players to wonder about what’s next for the game for about another month. The official Apex Legends Twitter account put out a tweet showing off a short Pathfinder clip, linking to their lore for the character, indicating it is now day 725 of his search about finding who created him. Of course, this opened the door for a potshot about the lack of content, which dizzy took complete advantage of. While it hasn’t quite been 725 days since new content, it has still been a while since something meaningful came to Apex Legends. Since launch, only one new gun and one new legend has been added. Season 2 will look to fix this, but it might end being a classic case of too little, too late. Unless something major is in the works, it will prove difficult to please players constantly looking out for the next new thing. What’s coming with Season 2? Respawn promised major changes with Season 2, starting with the Battle Pass. The team said the Battle Pass will come with more meaningful content, a new Legend, a new weapon and also teased map changes. Twitch streamer shroud warned players not to get their hopes up about the new Legend, Wattson, revealing that he has played him, but it might just be because he didn’t like how he played. “I didn’t hate it, I just didn’t like it,” he said. “That’s all. It’s like me playing Caustic, I just don’t like him.” Regardless, a new legend of any kind will be a welcome addition, and players may just have to get used to the slower burn of Respawn’s content plans.

Apex Legends pro dizzy baffled by aimbotter with over 3000 kills – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro dizzy baffled by aimbotter with over 3000 kills With the rise in popularity of Apex Legends, there has also been a rise in the appearance of hackers and it appears as one player has racked up an insane amount of kills while using an aimbot. Respawn Entertainment now has over 50 million players jumping into Apex Legends, while also playing host to countless hackers due to a lack of appropriate anti-cheat measures. During a match on his tream, NRG pro Coby ‘dizzy’ Meadows was taken out by a pinpoint barrage from a player using a M600 Spitfire. But after further inspection, both dizzy and his teammate Lucas ‘Mendokusaii’ Håkanssonhas were left speechless from the blatant use of hacks from the enemy player. The player in question is called ‘SuperSmashSis,’ and touted over 3300 kills with Gibraltar in about 450 games. Through dizzy’s stream, the player can be seen tracking their opponents through rocks, buildings, and Thermite Grenades, exhibiting a clear example of aimbot programs. After the opponent reveals themselves, SuperSmashSis immediately lands shot after shot to their recently discovered foe. While other instances seem to show the player prefire objects directly in front of them, before strafing and hitting shots from a huge distance. Read more: How to melee attack faster in Apex Legends – Meanwhile, Mendo seemed to take every engagement with increasing skepticism and hilarious banter. “I said so many times that dizzy or shroud were the best players in Apex,” Mendo said. “But this guy? I’m sorry dizzy, I’m sorry man. [I’m dethroning you]. He shoots them through walls.” Apex Legends’ growth isn’t showing signs of slowing down. But with an influx of cheaters in recent weeks, Respawn Entertainment might want to implement a fix before it gets further out of hand.

Apex Legends pro discovers game-changing Fuse ‘wallhack’ exploit – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro discovers game-changing Fuse ‘wallhack’ exploit Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro player Jamison “Jxmo” Moore discovered a Fuse combo with Lifeline that has the potential to change the meta entirely. Fuse has been considered a low-tier Legend for most of his lifetime, but 2024 has been his year. Despite not being touched since September 2023 in terms of balance, his pick rate has skyrocketed due to how effective grenades are and the strength of Assault perks. However, Apex Legends pro Jxmo has discovered an exploit that could push Fuse over the edge into being a must-pick legend. The scan meta has come and gone due to how heavily both Seer and Bloodhound have been nerfed, but the combination of Fuse and Lifeline has a way of circumventing that and makes the Aussie one of Apex Legends’ best scan characters. The FURIA player discovered that it’s possible to spread Fuse’s ultimate out over a much wider area by shooting their ult at Lifeline’s care package. Rather than gaining vision of the small area within the ult, Fuse can see through all the walls around him. Sure, you won’t get that ring of fire to lock enemies in, but most high-level players would vastly prefer to have the ‘wallhacks’ in critical situations. Fuse having essentially an indestructible Seer ult combined with all the other things that make him great creates a recipe for some huge meta shifts. Most of the time, when a scan character is picked for a team, the scanning bit is all they do. If Fuse’s ult becomes one of the strongest data tools in Apex Legends, it will make him a must-play Legend. Jxmo already spoke about how Pathfinder/Lifeline/Fuse is a great team composition to pull this off with, as each character covers all the bases you’d want on a team between their role passives. That said, there’s a chance Respawn patches out the exploit now that Jxmo has discovered it.

Apex Legends pro claims matches are “unplayable” because of failing anti-cheat – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro claims matches are “unplayable” because of failing anti-cheat Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro player HisWattson has slammed Respawn’s “horribly ran” anti-cheat system and claimed the game is “unplayable” at certain times of the day. Apex Legends Season 14 is finally on the horizon and Respawn has revealed that the major update is going to arrive on August 9. While a lot of the community is excited for the debut of Vantage and the return of Kings Canyon, others are more concerned about the abundance of cheaters in pubs and Ranked. The number of players using third-party software appears to be on the rise and more prevalent at certain times of the day. Apex pro player HisWattson has lost their patience with the number of hackers ruining matches and has slammed Respawn’s “horribly ran” anti-cheat on Twitter. HisWattson slams Apex’s “horribly ran” anti-cheat Apex Legends pro player HisWattson took to Twitter on July 26 to criticize Respawn’s “horribly ran” anti-cheat. According to them, “EU and APAC high elo servers are legitimately unplayable due to the number of cheaters” at certain times of the day. While hackers at low elo are more uncommon due to the number of players in those lowers ranks, you are significantly more likely to run into a cheater if you’re competing in Masters and Predator. HisWattson believes the cheater density at 4 am compared to 4 pm is “because the ban team isn’t awake during this time”. While it’s impossible to know whether HisWattson’s claims about the ban team are true, it’s clear Apex is suffering from a severe cheating problem. Although we know improvements are in the works, no details have been shared at this time so it’s hard to know when we can expect the anti-cheat to get an upgrade. Either way, it’s obvious pros are beginning to lose their patience and are struggling to see the point of climbing Ranked when it’s overrun by hackers at high elo.

Apex Legends pro claims EU Ranked is “unplayable” due to countless cheaters – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro claims EU Ranked is “unplayable” due to countless cheaters Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro Elwin ‘KSWINNIIE’ Echeveria has claimed EU Ranked is “unplayable” and “nothing has been done for years” to crack down on the cheaters. One of the biggest complaints from the Apex Legends community is the abundance of hackers using third-party software to gain an unfair advantage. While Respawn has promised anti-cheat improvements are on the way, not everyone is satisfied waiting for them to arrive, with Element 6 pro KSWINNIIE claiming EU Ranked is “unplayable” in its current state. According to them, as soon as they jump into a game they’re immediately “aimbotted” and as Respawn has down “nothing” for years, it’s becoming an increasingly big problem in Europe. Calling on Respawn to hire more “anti-cheat staff for EU”, the pro revealed that they usually “grind for top 50 pred” but this split they’ve “barely touched ranked”. It’s clear the Element 6 pro doesn’t feel like Respawn is doing enough to suspend hackers and remove them from matches, especially when comparing NA to EU. Noticing the complaints, a member of the security team at Respawn responded by saying that “we have people in EU”. KSWINNIIE responded by denying that could be true and even going as far as to say that Respawn should “replace” them. For now, pros and players alike will just have to wait for the anti-cheat improvements that Respawn have vowed are on their way. Whether this will be minor changes or a complete overhaul to the detection system is a mystery at the moment, but it’s safe to say that the community is desperate for the anti-cheat update to release.

Apex Legends pro accidentally breaks NDA and reveals Respawn plans – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro accidentally breaks NDA and reveals Respawn plans Apex Legends pro Jack ‘NiceWigg’ Martin accidentally broke the terms of a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with Respawn Entertainment, revealing a possible initiative to fix the game. Since the game’s release back in February, Respawn have been struggling with player complaints about balance, development times, the lack of esports news around the title, and more, even while the game continues to be popular. There have been a few problems in the game which have persisted for so long that some fans were routinely critical of Respawn for ignoring the complaints of their player base – making NiceWigg’s NDA mishap a sigh of relief for a lot of people. In a since-deleted tweet, the Counter Logic Gaming player gave his audiences a heads up as to why he wouldn’t be streaming the following day. One problem: he gave a bit too much information regarding his whereabouts. “I won’t be live tomorrow because I am going to talk to the Respawn devs tomorrow with a bunch of other pro Apex players about game’s future content, fixes, patches, and more!” he said. Although the pro didn’t reveal anything too groundbreaking, Producer at Respawn Entertainment Josh Medina still stepped in to remind NiceWigg to read the fine print: “Bro you didn’t read the email completely did you?” Well, even if he wasnt supposed to share this, I think its cool that they get input from the larger voices in the community. Looking forward to what it brings. But uhh @lowkeydbjosh you guys CLEARLY need a Mirage main invited so he gets represented!(Buffff) 😋✊ pic.twitter.com/BYgrGqUWYM — iLootGames – ApexRanked.com (@iLootGames) December 5, 2019 It seems like the pro player must have been given instructions to keep the meeting under wraps, though excitement must have got the better of NiceWigg – resulting in the deleted tweet. Luckily, it seems like the devs have a sense of humor about this particular case, seeing as the contents of the meeting must be more important than the announcement of it. Medina gave a light response to a screenshot of the deleted interaction, hopefully indicating that no one’s in trouble – at least outside of the Apex Legends servers. “Well I’ll talk to him in person and show him what’s up with controller lol,” Medina said, in reference to KBM vs controller debates that spans across multiplayer titles. Even still, this is a great sign seeing as Respawn has opened its doors to the more competitive players, hopefully to address their longtime worries of the game. Players like NRG’s Brandon ‘Ace’ Winn and Team Liquid’s Lucas ‘Mendokusaii’ Håkansson routinely express their concerns with the game’s state at various stages. As unfortunate as NiceWigg’s mishap was, players are at least encouraged that this means Respawn are taking notes from some of its most dedicated players. “Really happy to see this,” Twitter user ‘Dopluur’ said in response to the deleted tweet. “Making streamers/pros happy will always have major influence over new players and the general community” Relsly happy to see this, making streamers/pros happy will always have major influence over new players and the general community — Dopluur (@Dopluur) December 5, 2019 More topics of discussion that could stem out of Thursday’s meeting could be a range of motions to sort out the “Apex competitive gaming program” in the near future, something we know the company has been planning for.

Apex Legends pro Albralelie stunned seeing bizarre bug deflect bullet – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Albralelie stunned seeing bizarre bug deflect bullet Respawn EntertainmentTSM pro Mac ‘Albralelie’ Kenzie Beckwith was baffled to see a perfectly placed shot in Apex Legends go awry after a bug deflected a Sentinel bullet back towards his own team. The glitch has happened in the past in multiple scenarios, and at first glance it looks like the errant shot had something to do with the Knockdown Shield. As the TSM star was tracking the downed opponent’s movement, his shot came just in time to be deflected by the shield or punched away by an enemy Wraith. In either case, it’s not something that people are used to seeing in Apex, and it definitely wasn’t something Albralelie calculated for in his game. “My bullet just ricocheted off,” he said. “What the f**k was that?! The bullet literally pinged off his Knockdown Shield and flew back towards us.” Across the way, fellow Apex competitor Jan ‘Euriece’ Del Rosario can be seen knocked down and spamming his shield to throw off Albralelie. In that shuffle, the shot that bounced off came as two things happened around the same time: the Knockdown Shield activation and an ally Wraith punching Euriece to cover. Euriece’s shield was taking damage from a few of Albralelie’s bullets that did manage to connect, dropping it down from 200 HP to 60. But the last shot in question didn’t affect the current value of the shield. As for Wraith, the bullet can be seen making its point of contact as she’s coming out of a slide animation into her melee punch. We’ve seen Knockdown Shields deflect bullets before. At one point, the interaction would happen so seamlessly, it was hard for players to distinguish it as an intended feature or bug. Even as an established pro player with countless hours poured into Apex Legends, Albralelie said while reviewing the clips that he’d “never seen a ricochet in [his] life.” The same kind of occurrence happened with Care Packages before and even with Arc Stars bouncing off character models. It’s unclear what causes these bugs, but so far Albralelie’s shot is one of the strangest examples to occur in Apex Legends.

Apex Legends pro Albralelie explains why Ranked rework is healthier for the game – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Albralelie explains why Ranked rework is healthier for the game TSM/RespawnApex Legends pro Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith delivered a harsh assessment about the previous state of Apex Legends’ ranked system, stating that the recent revamp has given some home truths to players. The Ranked part of Apex Legends has always been the go-to mode for players wanting to prove their skills and rub shoulders with some of the best around. Though, the previous system drew plenty of criticism as players were able to skyrocket up the leaderboards and then hog the top spots. That has since changed with the release of Apex Legends Season 13, as Respawn have reworked the Ranked system entirely. The changes have proven to be pretty popular with players, even if some complaints do linger. For TSM’s Albralelie, he believes the new system is good for the game because the previous iteration was like a “participation trophy” with players getting to the top ranks fairly easy. The Apex Legends star addressed the new system during a stream, saying that players haven’t “gotten worse” at the game, but they were “misled” by the previous Ranked setup into believing that they were better than they are. “The system caters to you being able to actually improve as you climb, not just ‘I’m going to play and I’m going to rank up’,” he said, pointing to how some players may have been diamond and above previously, but are now more in the silver and gold regions of ranked because of the changes. “Don’t get defeated because you’re like ‘man I was masters last season now I’m stuck in gold, f**k this game’. No, that’s not the mindset. It’s like, damn man, that shows me how bad the ranked system really was.” Albralelie also followed up with a lengthy comment on Reddit addressing his own thoughts. “The overall point I was trying to make, was to not be discouraged by this new ranked system because it’s one that will actively turn you into a better player,” he added. He also claimed that the matchmaking is “horrendous” at the minute for gold and platinum players because they are regularly being matched up against Apex Predator lobbies. “It’s not fun for you guys to fight us and vice versa, you guys get negative RP and we don’t get rewarded either, it’s a lose/lose.” On the matchmaking issues, Respawn have already stated the mixed lobbies are “fully intended” but should only happen at times where it is a struggle to populate the lobby. As things move forward, Ranked may undergo some other tweaks to address some of the lingering complaints players have, but plenty are on board with Albralelie’s direct take on things.

Apex Legends pro Albralelie joins calls to remove Gold Knockdowns amid backlash – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Albralelie joins calls to remove Gold Knockdowns amid backlash TSM / Respawn EntertainmentCalls to remove Gold Knockdown Shields from Apex Legends are once again taking shape as pros like TSM ‘Albralelie,’ Alliance ‘Hakis’ and more rejoin the push to convince Respawn. Gold Shields have been at the center of debate for a long time. They’re a highly-valued item sought for its excellent self-rezing passive that can save a game for a squad or stall out a death long enough to outlast an opponent who might not have one. This can result in a messy endgame situation where sometimes a team might feel as if the difference between a win or a loss was having the item in their inventory like Hakis alluded to. “Gold Knockdown ruins so many good games,” he said. “Late game is just cringe with the item in the game, please remove for split 2 it’s so depressing losing out placements because of it.” Even Albralelie is making concessions by making sure he always has Thermite Grenades to finish off downed foes just in case they’re packing a Gold Knockdown. But even by adjusting to the meta, the TSM star still wants Respawn Entertainment to make some changes to the loot pool. “Gold [Knockdown Shield] is dogs**t and should be removed,” he said on Twitter. The knockdown shield has gone under the microscope at Respawn a few times, and the devs have shown a willingness to concede its prowess in a competitive setting. Back in Season 2 of the ALGS, Respawn outright removed the item due to players citing concerns over competitive integrity. Read more: How to play Apex Legends Mobile on PC – Since then, Respawn devs have been receptive to community feedback on how to change the item should it need to be nerfed. But it’s clear that vocal Apex players would rather see it out of the game for the time being.

Apex Legends pro Albralelie grills Catalyst on release: “As bad as day one Fuse” – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Albralelie grills Catalyst on release: “As bad as day one Fuse” EA / Respawn EntertainmentCatalyst has finally launched with Apex Legends Season 15’s arrival on November 1, but players aren’t impressed. Streamer and pro Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith claimed the new Legend was in dire need of buffs, calling her “as bad as day one Fuse”. Catalyst has finally hit Apex Legends as part of Season 15’s launch on November 1. Touted as the fabled “anti-scan” Legend to counter the likes of Seer and Bloodhound, there was hope in her kit being able to shake things up. However, at least based on early player opinions, she’s fallen dramatically short of that goal. Albralelie didn’t sugarcoat his thoughts after getting some hands-on time with Catalyst, even comparing her to Fuse’s woefully weak release. “Catalyst is as bad as day one Fuse,” he claimed. “Unfortunately, her ult not blocking Seer ult is the nail in the coffin on top of other issues (mostly geometry related) with her Q and ult. He did concede Catalyst’s “passive is great though, wish it kept doors alive through Horizon ult is all.” It’s hardly a glowing opinion on the new character though as players get their hands on her for the first time. Catalyst’s ultimate, Dark Veil, is meant to “erect a tall and wide wall of ferrofluid, blocking vision and scans, and blinding enemies that walk through it.” However, with Apex’s wild terrain, it sometimes doesn’t do its job and lets scans go through. Some have also struggled with her passive Barricade, given it’s tied to an alternate interact key some players haven’t yet bound in-game. Catalyst has already seen a decent amount of play, being the fourth-highest picked Legend at 7.7% according to stats site Apex Legends Status, and that’ll only climb over the next few days, as is normal for newly released characters. As players learn how best to use her kit, opinions may change. But if it doesn’t, expect some buffs in the near future.

Apex Legends pro Albralelie fears 30-30 Repeater could be “broken” in Season 14 – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Albralelie fears 30-30 Repeater could be “broken” in Season 14 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro player Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith has explained why the 30-30 Repeater could be a “pocket Kraber” in Season 14 thanks to the hop-up changes. Apex Legends Season 14 is scheduled to arrive on August 9 and it’s going to introduce the new character Vantage, Kings Canyon map changes, and a long-awaited level cap increase. Alongside this, a set of huge weapon changes are going to completely shift the meta in the Hunted update, including buffs to the EVA and of course, the Wingman now using Sniper ammo. However, an addition that seems to be getting overlooked is the arrival of Skullpiercer hop-up for the 30-30 Repeater. While this has gone under the radar for most of the community, Albralelie thinks the underused weapon could be “broken” in Season 14. Albralelie thinks 30-30 could be a “pocket Kraber” in Season 14 Since its debut in the Outlands back in Season 8, the 30-30 Repeater has never managed to gain a foothold in the meta or become a popular pick. Although the gun has extremely efficient ammo consumption and has been praised by pros like ImperialHal, its slow rate of fire means most of the community avoids it completely. Well, Apex pro Albralelie thinks that’s about to change when the Skullpiercer hop-up is available for the gun, as it’s going to hit harder than ever in Season 14. Not only that, he thinks paired with Rampart wall, it could be a “pocket Kraber” that’s capable of one-shotting certain opponents, making it a potentially “broken” option in Hunted. Topic starts at 0:33 As showcased by Zipp, Albralelie noted that the base full charge headshot with the 30-30 Repeater deals 96 damage in Season 13. He’s hoping that with the Skullpeircer, it’ll jump to 120, and through a Rampart wall, it’ll hit for between 140 and 150 damage. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see but either way, there’s a very high chance the 30-30 Repeater is going to be an immensely strong gun next season.

Apex Legends pro Albralelie explains why Seer is “gaming-breaking” in current meta – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Albralelie explains why Seer is “gaming-breaking” in current meta Respawn Entertainment/TSMApex Legends pro player Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith has explained why Seer is “game-breaking” from a defensive standpoint in Apex Legends Season 13. Despite receiving a set of heavy nerfs shortly after his release, Seer has slowly climbed back into the meta over the last few seasons. While a lot of pros were skeptical at first and chose to run Bloodhound as their scan Legend, it’s now widely accepted that the Ambush Artist is the better choice. This was showcased in the recent 2022 ALGS Championship where Seer boasted an impressive 24.81% pick rate across the entire tournament So, what makes Seer such a threat at the top level of play? Well, Apex pro player Albralelie took to Twitter and broke down why the Ambush Master is so “game-breaking” from a defensive standpoint. Why is Seer such a strong Legend in Season 13? Speaking on the current meta in Apex Legends, Albralelie shared his opinion on Seer and why the Ambush Master is so “game-breaking” when it comes to denying resets. As he can give his whole squad vision through terrain it’s easy to deny enemies from reviving their teammates, or they risk taking a significant amount of damage. This was demonstrated recently in the ALGS with the Maggie Seer combination that allows the Rebel Warlord to use her drill on opponents through walls, and always land guaranteed damage thanks to Seer’s scans. Albralelie thinks that eventually if Seer becomes a staple pick for every squad in pro play, resing downed players will be “incredibly rare” during hectic gunfights. With Seer becoming more and more popular as the days go on, it’ll be interesting to see whether the devs think he deserves a nerf. While there’s no denying the power of his scans, the rise of Seer and Valkyrie has had some positives in the eyes of the community, pushing Gibraltar’s priority at the pro-level down, despite him at one point being a must-pick for the majority of teams. Either way, we’ll just have to wait for the next event and see if Seer continues to shine in Season 14.

Apex Legends pro Albralelie claims the Hemlok “smacks” after Season 10 buffs – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Albralelie claims the Hemlok “smacks” after Season 10 buffs Respawn / TSMApex Legends pro Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith is having a field day with the Hemlok after it was buffed in Season 10, and he believes the changes make it more in line with how it used to be – strong and reliable. Apex Legends Season 10 is drawing closer to its end. Season 11 is around the corner, and it’s set to shake things up with the new Tropics map, a new legend (which could be either Ash or Maali), and a whole lot more. It’s not expected to release until sometime in November. But in the meantime, the Evolution Collection event patch is keeping players busy. Not only did it introduce some new features, but it also tweaked the weapon meta. The Hemlok was one of the weapons to benefit the most from the patch. It received a nice buff in the form of reduced hipfire spread at a slightly faster rate, and Albralelie claims he’s “smacking” lobbies with it. “The Hemlok was smacking,” he said while reflecting on a round that had just finished. He popped off so hard with it, he was even accused of hacking. But he laughed off those claims and explained why it’s so good. “The buff made it really good. The hip fire is crazy. It’s like the old Hemlok. People get in my face, and it’s like I have two shotguns, essentially. In the mid-range, like, it thrives.” In December 2020, the Apex Legends community called for the Hemlok to be nerfed, and the developers listened. Albralelie believes it’s good enough to be considered a first-choice weapon again. However, only time will tell whether other players are convinced.

Apex Legends pro Albralelie blasts “braindead” meta for ruining the game – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Albralelie blasts “braindead” meta for ruining the game EA / Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends content creator and pro player Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith slammed the game’s current meta as “braindead” and explained how the super-aggressive playstyle encouraged by Octane’s jump pad is hurting the game. There’s plenty on offer for Apex Legends players to enjoy as the battle royale’s eighth season winds down. Players have their hands full with the War Games event in full swing to close out the season, but there are still plenty of issues they’re calling out as well. Despite several balance passes this season, many players are unhappy with the game’s current meta, and Octane in particular. The speedster Legend was buffed in Seasons 7 and 8 with changes to his stim ability and jump pad, making him (arguably) one of the most powerful Legends in the game. TSM’s Albralelie, the latest pro to criticize Apex’s balancing in Season 8, called the current meta “braindead” and explained how Octane’s buffs have favored a more aggressive playstyle, and reduced the opportunity to pull off strategic plays with characters like Wraith. In his Twitch stream on April 16, Albralelie was grinding ranked with fellow pros Mikkel ‘Mande’ Halle and Noyan ‘Genburten’ Ozkose when the topic of the game’s meta came up. All three players were quick to voice their concerns with the current state of the game. “I hate the meta right now. I think it’s the most braindead [it’s] ever been,” Albralelie remarked. “The only thought process now is we’re gonna [go] all in and we’re either gonna win the fight or we’re gonna die,” he continued, referring to the style of play that Octane encourages. The TSM player also pointed out that abilities like Wraith’s portal provide more strategic flexibility, whereas Octane’s jump pad is used almost exclusively to push enemy teams quickly and aggressively. “It’s so braindead and I absolutely hate it,” he said, as he expressed his unhappiness with the game’s current state. While Albralelie’s thoughts on the matter were mostly negative, he did point out a simple change that could potentially combat the Octane meta. “[Respawn] can fix it [by] reducing Wraith’s portal cooldown and increasing Octane’s [jump] pad cooldown,” he explained, offering up a simple solution to reel in the high-speed daredevil’s power while also buffing another character in the process. While the pro doesn’t believe both abilities should share the exact same cooldown, he thinks this change would help encourage more players to choose Wraith over Octane and improve the game’s Legend meta. Respawn have already confirmed their plans to nerf Octane’s stim ability in Season 9, but it remains to be seen whether this will be enough to bring him in-line with other Legends and shift the meta or if additional changes to his jump pad will be needed, as Albralelie has suggested.

Apex Legends pro Albralelie baffled at Caustic’s annoying gas after tournament loss – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Albralelie baffled at Caustic’s annoying gas after tournament loss Respawn Entertainment / TSMTeam SoloMid’s Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith was completely baffled at Caustic’s Nox Gas after his team was wiped from a GLL Cup Finals match without taking much bullet damage in the fight. There’s been a ton of discussion around the Toxic Trapper as of late. The Apex community has been airing their problems with the Legend as he is now, in relation to his ability to completely eviscerate teams without firing a shot. Something similar happened to Albralelie in one of his outings during the GLL Cup, which made for a very tilting situation for a team that liked their chances going into the final circles. Going into the 6th round, the TSM streamer and his two Team Liquid teammates were holed up in a shed when a Caustic threw their Nox Gas Grenade into the fray. Problem was: TL’s Thomas ‘Flanker’ Cook was also playing Caustic, who was also distributing the toxic fumes. This created a confusing atmosphere to play in, as Albralelie and co.’s health bars were depleting, with seemingly no way to know where it ended or if the ability was friend or foe. With nowhere to turn, the pro team was quickly eliminated. “What is that gas nade, dude?” the 20-year-old TSM streamer said. “I can’t tell what gas is ours or not. I thought that that was their gas in the front [of the building] too, so I don’t know where the grenade started. It’s hitting me throughout the whole building.” After venting frustrations, Albralelie suggested that Respawn should change the color of friendly/foe Caustic gas to make things much easier to distinguish. Aight instead of my last suggestion for caustic, ive got a real simple one. Make his gas non lethal, meaning you tick to 1hp then still have all your shields so at minimum they need to do 100 damage with their guns/nades and hes still powerful offensively and defensively. — Albralelie (@TSM_Albralelie) February 19, 2021 Later on, the TSM player suggested to change Causitc’s gas to the point where it’s “non-lethal, meaning you tick to 1hp then still have all your shields so at minimum they need to do 100 damage with their guns/nades and [Caustic] still powerful offensively and defensively.” While the devs are exploring all options, including different colored Nox gas, to fix Caustic, Apex Legends players are fuming with how the character is currently built. Apex Legends pro Albraelie wants Respawn to rework Wattson – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Albraelie wants Respawn to rework Wattson AlbralelieTSM streamer Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith shared some thoughts on Twitter about Apex Legends’ Wattson and potential changes that could be made. Respawn Entertainment recently announced that Wattson, one of the least popular characters in Apex Legends, will be receiving a buff. This buff will be accompanied by a substantial nerf, as the devs have previously called Wattson “very powerful.” Wattson continues to polarize both the professional and casual community, as she has the potential to dominate matches, but is very rarely seen doing so. Enter TSM streamer and former pro player, Albralelie, who has made a long tweet-thread full of suggested changes and potential reworks for Wattson. Wattson changes and rework idea Albralelie’s 10 tweet long thread goes into extensive detail about some of his concepts for Wattson going forward. The first of his extensive list is a relatively simple, but effective buff: “first basic buff idea: HP increase to fences so they survive a crypto EMP. Super simple buff, wouldn’t change a whole lot when it comes to her effectiveness and is more of a quality of life change more than anything for Wattson players.” First basic buff idea: HP increase to fences so they survive a crypto EMP. Super simple buff, wouldn’t change a whole lot when it comes to her effectiveness and is more of a quality of life change more than anything for wattson players. — TSMFTX Albralelie (@TSM_Albralelie) July 14, 2021 Another suggested improvement is “reduced cooldown to fences without ult being placed could be 10-15s, fence node cooldowns are absolutely terrible without gen especially after just being respawned. Coming out of a respawn ship you’re essentially not a character, just a gun.” Third basic buff idea: Reduced cooldown to fences without ult being placed could be 10-15s, fence node cooldowns are absolutely terrible without gen especially after just being respawned. Coming out of a respawn ship you’re essentially not a character, just a gun. — TSMFTX Albralelie (@TSM_Albralelie) July 14, 2021 Albralelie also has multiple ideas for a Wattson rework, the first one bringing changes to how her fences work. Wattson’s fences are one of the strongest parts of her kit, making her a solid chokepoint defender, especially in tighter areas. Making the fences stronger in any way would be a direct buff to her Legends identity. Second rework idea: We’ve seen this around on reddit a lot over the years and lots of people have talked about it, make her gen mobile by activating the one on her back which would remove her ability to place gens all together. Effects stay the same, lasts for 45-60s reduced cd. — Albralelie (@TSM_Albralelie) July 14, 2021 Some of the rework ideas shared are clearly more drastic than just slight alterations to her already existing abilities, but they are still fun to ponder. Soon we will see what Respawn has in store for the changes coming to Wattson, and if any of Albralelie’s ideas made the cut.

Apex Legends pro Ace slams Respawn over skill-based matchmaking – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Ace slams Respawn over skill-based matchmaking Apex Legends professional player Brandon ‘Ace’ Winn has slammed Respawn Entertainment over their decision to add skill-based matchmaking to the popular battle royale game. Players have long suspected that the title uses skill-based matchmaking to create lobbies, but had no official proof until a developer at the company confirmed that it was enabled before the end of Season 2. Unsurprisingly, this decision has annoyed a large number of players, including NRG Esports player Ace, who called out the creators of the game in a rant during his December 1 broadcast on Twitch. When his chat mentioned the issue of SBMM, the 24-year-old was quick to share his thoughts, and immediately jumped into criticism of the developers and their choice. “What do I think of skill-based matchmaking?” the streamer read. “It’s irrelevant. You don’t need skill-based matchmaking in a game that has a dedicated Ranked playlist.” “Respawn are just f**king stupid. They’re actually just doing this thing where they come out with a game, and they try to just ruin it as fast as they can. They’re going for the world record of declining player bases, and honestly, they’re doing a pretty decent job at it.” While Ace is clearly frustrated with Respawn’s decision to add SBMM to normal modes, it doesn’t appear that the developers have any intention of removing the tool, with no response to the outpouring of complaints from fans of the game. Ace knows all about competing at the top of the title, securing a share of $60,000 with victory at TwitchCon San Diego back in September, and was runner up at TwitchCon Europe in April. Ace continues to compete at the highest level in Apex Legends, but he can now be certain that no matter what mode he jumps into, he’ll be facing tough opponents thanks to his elevated rank as one of the game’s best players.

Apex Legends pro Ace shows how to manage chaotic fights with crazy moves – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Ace shows how to manage chaotic fights with crazy moves Respawn EntertainmentNRG pro Brandon ‘Ace’ Winn has some of the best mechanical skills in the competitive scene, and showed how sly maneuvering can get you out of a tricky situation in Apex Legends. The pro player’s game started and finished in Fragment East. Since dropping in the loaded warzone, the killfeed was constantly being updated with new entries until there were about nine squads left. But just when the game was finally settling down, the shattered building he was occupying was invaded by a couple of squads – with people dropping from the roof and various floors teeming with foes. A fight on the base floor left the NRG star with no shields and a Peacekeeper with only seven shots left. That’s when Ace decided it was time to retreat to move forward, but there wasn’t any safe space to take cover. Using the vertical zipline in the elevator shaft to evade the enemy Wraith on the first floor, he eventually met up with them on the second level and another opponent on the third floor. Jumping back and forth on the zipline gave him enough mobility to avoid being a stagnant target while going up. It also let him peek into a floor without committing to it, giving him the option of retreating when he saw another player. Making it to the roof, Ace was finally able to reload his PK but getting his shields charged would require a bit more stalling from the pro. That’s when he found a sneaky spot near a light post on the side of the building to crouch on, giving him plenty of time to recharge his shields. With two bars of armor and weapons fully stocked, he went back into the building to clean up the mess of a fight. While it was a tense situation, the pro player was able to strategically maneuver around the chaos to give him the best chance of winning out. Apex Legends routinely rewards players who get creative with their movements, which could make it easier to slip out of tricky conditions on World’s Edge.

Apex Legends pro Ace schools opponent with acrobatic kill – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Ace schools opponent with acrobatic kill via NRG / Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pro Brandon ‘Ace’ Winn completely lost his opponent in game after showing off insane movement techniques to net him a swift squad elimination. Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale isn’t like a lot of games in its genre, as it incorporates a vast array of mechanics for how players can move through a battle. While sliding and wall climbing are the most prevalent, there are some hidden techniques that pros can use on a dime. By not only mastering, but also mixing up their movement, the more skilled Apex Legends players can use an entire arsenal of acrobatics to easily take down vulnerable players in the Apex Games. During his September 2 stream, Ace was hunting down one of the last squads in his match when he decided to style on the last remaining player in that team. But the lead up to the elimination saw Ace effortlessly scale a building to recharge his shields, before going back to a downed enemy, predicting that their teammate would rush to pick them up. With two of the three foes down, Ace saw the last foe before turning to draw out their fire. Getting chased down by a barrage of bullets which brought down his shields to less than 25%, the pro knew the enemy Caustic would soon chase through the alleyway to push their advantage. Not one to be easy prey, however, Ace ran out to confront the approaching hostile but at the last moment tricked both opponent and audiences alike with an insane wall jump. Ace kept his composure while running into a hail of gunfire from the close-quarter Caustic to essentially do a 180-degree turn from the start of his leap to when he landed. The maneuver completely threw Caustic out of whack, which can be seen by the errant gunfire when they finally realized where they were now being shot from. NRG’s pro was able to make quick work out of the final enemy down the stretch with his aim. But the clip is a great reminder for players to iron out their movement techniques so that they could net easy eliminations in Apex Legends.

Apex Legends pro Ace hits out at Respawn for ‘catering to casuals’ – Dexerto
Apex Legends pro Ace hits out at Respawn for ‘catering to casuals’ NRG professional player Brandon ‘Ace’ Winn has hit out at Apex Legends developers Respawn Entertainment for catering their game to ‘casual’ players instead of hardcore fans. While it has been on the market since early February of 2019, Apex Legends hasn’t quite exploded on to the competitive scene like Fortnite or even PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Organizations have picked up multiple players and there have been events – including a few pro-ams and charity one-offs, but as for real substance, that has been lacking. Despite that, the game is still pretty popular with Respawn rolling out plenty of content updates, fixing bugs and other issues, as well as running events like the Holo-Day Bash. Yet, professional star Ace would like to see the developers pivot and take on the advice of players like himself. Speaking on NRG’s Sunday Sitdown video series, the former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pro opened up on his feelings about the current state of the game after his last rant went super viral. “I kind of exaggerated that clip but that thing blew up and I feel bad, because, the devs are really passionate about Apex – you can tell – but the direction they’re taking the game is like they don’t listen to the actual people who play the game,” Ace said. “They really cater towards the causal fanbase and I feel like that’s just not the way to take your game,” he continued, before noting that some who plays for 12 hours a day is going to know “what’s wrong with the game” and “what the game needs” rather than someone who is only dipping in and out. Timestamp for mobile viewers of 19:19 “It really feels like they’re trying to lower the skill ceiling, and they keep on lowering it, and it’s just not the way to take the game,” Ace concluded before switching the topic to content creation. Of course, it’s not unnatural for any competitive player to feel the way Ace does, but for a game like Apex that is yet to make its mark, he may play a key role in getting changes made. Wheter or not the Respawn development team will heed his words remains to be seen, but until a real competitive scene is struck up, it’s hard to see them changing course in the immediate future.

Apex Legends private matches coming for all players soon – Dexerto
Apex Legends private matches coming for all players soon Respawn EntertainmentChad Grenier, Respawn Entertainment’s Game Director working on Apex Legends, has confirmed that private matches will be coming for all players – regardless of platform – soon. Given Apex Legends’ incredible popularity, it’s somewhat surprising that the battle royale doesn’t have a ubiquitous private match feature. Now over two years old, many players have requested Respawn implement the feature, which would allow anyone to hop into a closed lobby with custom rules and players. Currently, the closest Apex has to a private match mode is its tournament mode, which allows players to organize private lobbies if given permission and an admin code by Respawn. Speaking to the BrownGirlGamerCode community, Chad Grenier outlined Respawn’s intentions to add the feature in the near future, although he was not able to provide any dates for the addition. “As of a couple of weeks ago,” he said, “We made that support [for tournament mode] crossplay as well, so it can be used on console and on PC, or even a mixed lobby using crossplay… “We have a separate effort that we’re doing to make it go public. I don’t have a timeline, but we’re trying to make that go as quickly as possible, where we offer the private match feature available for anybody who plays Apex.” “Again, it’s not as simple as just turning that feature on and making it public,” he continued. “There’s some work in the back end we have to do to make it to scale – to that many people. But we’re doing that work. It’s hard to give dates, but we’re hoping that some time soon we’ll have private matches across all platforms and you can play different games or you can organize your own events without having to ask us for a code and have an official event happening. So yeah, stay tuned.” The news will be welcomed by many Apex fans, who have been eager for the feature to be added for some time. It will mean players can dictate their own private lobbies, customizing rules and players to suit their needs. As Grenier stated, it will make tournaments far easier to organize as they will no longer require an admin code from Respawn. Although no dates were given, we wouldn’t expect it to release with Season 9, which is set to drop on May 3. It sounds like it’s still deep in the development stage.

Apex Legends Prestige Skins: What are Mythics and how to get them – Dexerto
Apex Legends Prestige Skins: What are Mythics and how to get them Respawn EntertainmentIn Season 12, Apex Legends introduced a brand new tier of rarity called ‘Mythic’, starting with Prestige skins. But what are Prestige skins in Apex, and how do you get them? Up until Season 12, the most desirable items in Apex were the heirlooms. Heirlooms are unique items, only available for one Legend, and will cost you a significant amount of cash to get, unless you’re lucky enough to get it in Apex packs. Now, heirlooms will be part of the new ‘Mythic’ tier of cosmetics, joined by the Prestige skins. The first of which will be the Bloodhound ‘Apex Hunter’ skin. What are Prestige Skins in Apex Legends? Prestige skins are unlike any other Apex skins in that they have three ‘tiers’ to work through. After unlocking tier 1, the following levels will be unlocked through gameplay. These skins also appear to be pilot-inspired, at least judging by Bloodhound’s. In addition to the skin, you will also be able to unlock a Prestige finisher that can be performed with the skin. The first step is to unlock tier 1, which is done through completing a Collection event, just like how heirlooms were unlocked. After the event, Prestige skins will enter the ‘Mythics’ store tab, next to the heirlooms. After tier 1 is unlocked, you will then have to complete challenges to unlock the next levels – no money involved. How to unlock Prestige Skins Here’s how Prestige skins and tiers are unlocked: Unlock tier 1 by completing the Collection event, or purchasing the skin from the Mythics store – Unlock tier 2 by completing a gameplay challenge with the Legend e.g. 30,000 damage with Bloodhound – – Unlock tier 3 by completing a gameplay challenge with the Legend e.g. 70,000 damage with Bloodhound – – You will also unlock the Prestige finisher with tier 3 – All Prestige skins in Apex Legends Right now, there is a very short list of Prestige skins in Apex, as only Bloodhound’s has been revealed. Bloodhound: Apex Hunter We can certainly expect all Legends to eventually get one, but if Respawn release only one per season, it could be a while before your favorite character gets theirs. We’ll keep this list updated as more Prestige skins and finishers are added.

New Prestige skins & finishers coming in Apex Legends Season 12 – Dexerto
New Prestige skins & finishers coming in Apex Legends Season 12 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Season 12 appears to be adding new types of skins and finishers called “Prestige”, which may be a new rarity for the battle royale game. Legendary skins – as the name suggests – have always been the rarest and hardest to obtain in the Apex Games. If you see a Gold flash in a pack or a Legend running around the map looking very different to their base model, there’s a Legendary involved. However, Respawn Entertainment is shaking things up with their next major content refresh, as S12 delivers “Prestige” skins for the first time. While information is fairly limited in relation to how they will work in-game right now, a number of previous leaks (which called them Heirloom skins) have suggested they could change over time – unlike anything we have ever seen before. Apex Legends Prestige skins: What are they? The existence of Apex Legends Prestige skins was confirmed on January 31, when the game’s developers dropped the first Season 12 gameplay trailer. Included in that were lots of new skins, featuring a sneak peek at what’s believed to be Bloodhound’s first-ever Prestige skin. In a flash, it changed from gray and red in color to being predominantly red – again, feeding into the theory that they could change as players make progress. The trailer shows a Bloodhound finisher, but whether or not the same ‘gameplay’ properties will also apply to Prestige finishers remains to be seen. Apex Legends Season 12 gameplay trailer One screenshot of the trailer shows a line of game text, which says: “Gameplay required to unlock Tier 2 or higher versions of and finishers for Prestige skins.” This would suggest that a new variant of skins will be confirmed as part of Season 12, and gameplay progression will be a key part of how they are unlocked or evolve – as leaks have stated in the past. More news is expected on Prestige skins and finishers in due course. Apex Legends Season 12 starts on February 8, 2022.

Apex Legends Preseason Invitational shows why Legend bans could be great – Dexerto
Apex Legends Preseason Invitational shows why Legend bans could be great The Apex Legends Preseason Invitational has convinced people that maybe temporary character bans could be a worthwhile tactic to improve pro tourneys. Respawn Entertainment and EA put together one of the biggest competitions for Apex Legends so far with the $500,000 event, but there were more than a few complications throughout the 3-day invitational. While there were noticeable glitches highlighted by the official stream for the event, some of the more frustrating occurrences came at the hands of Wattson and her Perimeter Security as some players found clever ways to abuse the ability or glitches known to be in the game. But after the dust settled, esports commentator Richard ‘TheSimms’ Simms said that he hopes Respawn “ban Wattson for future Apex tournaments.” After discussing Wattson’s bigger flaws with Apex pro Lucas ‘Mendo’ Håkansson, TheSimms thinks that there could be a great way to evolve the meta by periodically removing troublesome Legends. “I do like the idea that certain Legends could be banned during competitive play if they are OP or undergoing changes,” TheSimms advised in order to “keep the meta evolving as opposed to just slapping in new Legends.” i do like the idea that certain legends could be banned during competitive play if they are OP or undergoing changes, then brought back in at later dates once adjusted, keep the meta evolving as opposed to just slapping in new legends. — SIMMS (@TheSimms) September 16, 2019 Since the roster of Legends is the game’s “strongest and core attribute,” temporary bans would facilitate a systematic progression to the overall comps that pro teams would opt into. The Preseason Invitational saw a lot of Wattson picks with players using her fences to completely claim a room or nestle on an elevated platform. Moreover, Team Liquid’s star Mendo says that the Wattson’s “core problem is map design,” since her abilities can severely punish players walking into the narrow corridors and rooms seen throughout Kings Canyon. Adds something unique to the game, will help diversity in hero-picks to prevent forced balancing to ensure people pick other things than what’s common (i.e wattson and caustic’s current state). Could be cool, bans by majority vote could be cool too — Liquid Someone (@Mendo) September 16, 2019 While the former Overwatch pro wants to see meaningful updates to address these problems, he also thinks that teams should get a heads up on where circles will land in every match. “I think for viewership it could be a good idea to show the circle patterns ahead of the game start so people can draft their compositions ahead of the game based on that,” Mendo said. “Otherwise we’ll always see one generalized comp be played.” He thinks that simple change would add “something unique to the game (and) will help diversity in hero-picks.” The Apex Legends Preseason Invitational made it clear that the esport still has a ton of room to grow, but it should start out with how they want to address Wattson’s OP mechanics in games.

Apex Legends Predator players caught red-handed 6-man teaming in Ranked – Dexerto
Apex Legends Predator players caught red-handed 6-man teaming in Ranked Respawn EntertainmentA set of Apex Legends Predator and Masters players have been exposed 6-man teaming in Ranked to unfairly gain RP. If you want to up the stakes in your Apex Legends matches, queueing for Ranked is the best option as it allows you to rise up through the tiers and test your skills against opponents of a similar level. Unfortunately, some players do not want to progress up the ladder using their skills alone and decide to cheat instead. While this usually comes in the form of third-party software, there are other methods that are harder for the anti-cheat to detect. One involves queueing at the same time as another squad and teaming up together. A set of Predator and Master players have been caught red-handed doing exactly that, grouping up as one giant team and making it nearly impossible to take them down. Apex Predator players exposed for teaming in Ranked While facing an enemy squad, Reddit user lildoodlebob and their team first suspected teaming opponents when they were hit with two Crypto EMPs, one after another. After trying to escape the area with Valkyrie Ultimate, lildoodlebob was taken down outside the ring, so their teammates placed down a heat shield in the hopes of reviving them. Before long, six separate enemies pounced on their position and wiped them from the match. The opponents had been sitting together farming up red EVO armor, making them extremely overpowered at that point in the game. Following their elimination, lildoodlebob decided to check the ranks of the cheating foes, and it turns out they were all Masters and Predators. This begs the question of whether any of their RP was gained through legitimate skill, or whether their prestigious rank is a result of rampant cheating. Players are desperate to see Respawn find a way to stop teaming and boosting, as it ruins the competitive integrity of Ranked and defeats the point of earning badges.

Apex Legends Predator players are using one Legend way more than anyone else – Dexerto
Apex Legends Predator players are using one Legend way more than anyone else Respawn EntertainmentA specific Apex Legends character is being picked in over a quarter of Predator and Master tier matches, despite having a relatively mediocre pick rate at lower ranks. Picking a character in Apex Legends to dominate your opponents can be a difficult choice, especially if you want to consistently climb in Ranked. While opting for your favorite Legend to play is never a bad idea, sometimes looking at what the best players are using can provide the most effective answer. Well, when it comes to Master and Predator tier matches, one Legend is being picked significantly more than any other. Although she doesn’t make an appearance in the top three most popular Legends overall, Horizon is being used in over a quarter of Predator matches. Horizon is massively popular in Predator & Master While Octane, Pathfinder, and Wraith are top of the overall pick rate charts in Apex Legends, the Gravitational Manipulator is by far the most popular option in Master and Predator. According to the data collected by Apex Legends Status, Horizon has an astounding 25% pick rate among the very best Apex players in the world. While Pathfinder follows behind her at an impressive 16%, the Forward Scout is nowhere near close to toppling Horizon’s domination over high-ranked play. It’s worth noting that as the number of players in Predator and Master is relatively low, so these percentages change constantly, but Horizon has still managed to maintain her place at the top in Season 14. So, what makes Horizon so strong, and why are so many highly-skilled players using her? Well, first of all, her kit offers a tremendous amount of vertical mobility which makes it easy to escape lethal encounters and attack enemies from a variety of angles. Not only that, her kit synergizes extremely well with another meta Legend, Seer. Combining these two characters together can cause havoc for opposing squads and they seem to be making an appearance in a lot of meta-team comps together. Finally, despite multiple nerfs, Horizon still has one of the most deadly Ultimates in the game. A well-placed Black Hole followed by some Arc Stars can be enough to end a skirmish on its own, especially when combined with other allied abilities. So, if you’re looking for top-tier Legend to main, Horizon is a pick that’s being utilized by a lot of Predator players, so following in their footsteps is definitely a great way to see success.

Apex Legends Predator lobby bands together to takedown squad of cheaters – Dexerto
Apex Legends Predator lobby bands together to takedown squad of cheaters Respawn EntertainmentAfter realizing a group of cheaters were aimbotting and using speed hacks in their Apex Legends match, the rest of a Predator lobby decided to band together to take them down. Apex Legends is a competitive game at its heart and that means players typically do everything they can to take home the victory in their matches. While the majority of the community relies on their gunskill and mechanics, certain individuals prefer to take shortcuts and use third-party software. Although this is strictly against Apex’s rules and will result in a permanent ban, it’s become a huge problem in the upper echelons of Ranked. Well, after a group of Predator squads realized that a cheating team was dominating their lobby, they decided to band together in hopes of taking them down. Apex Predators group up to take down hackers During their Ranked match, four separate Predator squads all realized that a group of cheaters were dominating the lobby so they decided to group up against the common foe. Huddling together on top of a house, they attempted to snipe the hackers and dish out as much damage as possible. Unfortunately, the cheaters were using aimbots and speed hacks, so it was almost impossible to take them down without getting one shot in the process Although they did manage to eliminate one of the hackers, in the end, their alliance didn’t prevail and the third-party software users took home the victory. Despite failing to come out on top, the valiant effort from the Predators made for an incredible clip and showcased how teamwork can be effective against hackers. However, instead of rushing into the gunfight, the cheaters took their time and made it extremely hard for the group of 16 players to fight back. Let’s hope Respawn sees this video and suspends the players using third-party software before they can ruin another Ranked match.

Apex Legends Pred player caught abusing Olympus out-of-bounds glitch – Dexerto
Apex Legends Pred player caught abusing Olympus out-of-bounds glitch Electronic ArtsApex Legends players were livid after one fan caught a Predator-ranked player exploiting Olympus’ out-of-bounds exploit during a match. Apex Legends Season 18 is still in full swing but that doesn’t mean things haven’t been eventful for the community. Along with the conclusion of ALGS 2023 and developer Respawn Entertainment’s massive ban wave, things have certainly been interesting for fans of the battle royale. It seems some more bans may be on the horizon thanks to Olympus’ out-of-bounds glitch. Now, Apex Legends fans are furious after a Predator player was exposed for abusing the exploit mid-match. Apex Legends Pred player caught abusing exploit mid-match A post on the Apex Legends subreddit from a user named Fustratedgamer999 shared a clip of a player named ‘AuroraMyMVP’ exploiting the out-of-bounds glitch. The video, which was recorded off-screen through the user’s phone, showed the player and their squad simply sitting under Olympus as the final circle closed in toward the end of the game. As eight squads were left fighting on the map above, the Pred and their teammates simply sat still underneath the map — completely safe from harm — as the game neared its conclusion. Fans in the subreddit were frustrated at the cheating on display, with many frustrated at the current state of Ranked. “Only [people] that are Preds are map abusers and rats,” said one player. Others instead aimed their annoyance at Respawn for not pulling Olympus from the rotation after the community at large caught wind of the exploit. “I can’t believe they didn’t pull Olympus the moment this started happening. Huge L by the devs on this one.” Another fan echoed the same sentiment and said, “Hey you know what. Ranked is busted. Pubs are busted. Audio is busted. Maps are busted. But we got new skins so who cares!” According to public rankings found on Tracker Network, the player in question is currently ranked 634th in Pred, with 29,021 ladder points. At the time of writing, it’s unclear whether or not Respawn will take any action against the player, but the community is certainly unhappy with the evidence provided.

Apex Legends players praise Season 21 solos as the most fun they’ve had – Dexerto
Apex Legends players praise Season 21 solos as the most fun they’ve had EAApex Legends players are praising the devs over the solo mode introduced to the battle royale in Season 21. Apex Legends Season 21 launched on May 7, bringing the brand new Legend ‘Alter’ to the popular battle royale. Another highlight of the update was the introduction of a solo mode, which has been heavily praised by players. In a Reddit thread the day after Season 21’s launch, some went as far as to say the mode was “the most fun I’ve had in Apex since launch.” Another went on to say, “I’m having a blast in solos mode. I’ve never really played duos since I’m a solo anyway. Some games can be tough but I’m loving it. It feels so fresh and the re-queue feature is an amazing quality-of-life change.” However, this fun new mode didn’t come without drawbacks, as a player pointed out. “I wish this did not replace Duo’s since that’s what I and my friend usually play together, but damn this game mode is really fun.” In response to these complaints, the Apex developers explained that having three game modes at once makes finding matches harder as the player base will be more divided. Another complaint, though, is that some players are frustrated with how imbalanced their lobbies are. “It would be fun if I went up against people in my skill level my KD is 1.5, but I’m going up against 100ks and top 300 predators every game,” one player claimed. Still, overall response to the solo mode has beer largely positive from Apex players.

Apex Legends potential major issue makes Gibraltar’s Gun Shield OP – Dexerto
Apex Legends potential major issue makes Gibraltar’s Gun Shield OP Tu Bui/Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has managed to record a clip of what they say is proof that Gibraltar’s Gun Shield is the character’s “biggest issue” in Season 4. The Gun Shield is an ability unique to Gibraltar that produces a protective barrier with 50 HP around his upper torso that also allows him to fire out. It’s been both buffed and nerfed throughout the game’s history, but now some players are suggesting that the way it absorbs damage isn’t working as it should. Reddit user ApexToast said they had encountered the issue with Gibraltar’s Gun Shield a number of times before, but only recently had been able to capture it. Peacekeeper in hand, Toast bursts in on an unsuspecting Gibby and is convinced they burned his shields with one well-placed shot. After that, Gibraltar manages to activate their Gun Shield to cover the next shot, which destroys the shield but apparently fails to do any additional damage after that. Usually when shooting something like a body shield and breaking it would carry the remaining damage over to base HP, but apparently this isn’t the case with Gibraltar. Apparently this issue isn’t considered a bug, but just the normal way Gibraltar’s Gun Shield works. Players are divided, though, on whether or not it should be changed. “It’s not a bug but it should be changed I agree,” Reddit user GrandmasterSluggy said in the comments. “It is working as intended though but a common point people make is that it should go through with remaining damage.” Other players, most likely Gibraltar mains, argued that every hero needs something to set them apart in the game, so it’s worth keeping the Gun Shield interaction around as a sort of an unlisted passive. “Ok, don’t send me to hell on this one, but I don’t think it needs to change. It is the way it is,” a user named NC_Ender_Wiggin countered. “His gun shield should have other nerfs but not bleed-through. It should be another obstacle. I can tell you that it is an annoying thing to deal with, but so is every other legend (RIP Revenant and Mirage) in their environments.” “It sucks fighting Wattsons and Caustics when they’re camping. It sucks to fight Lifelines and Bangalores when they run off and pop revives. It sucks when you fight Pathfinder and get him low but he grapples away. These are their abilities and they suck to counter,” Wiggin continued. “Gibraltar is no exception, but taking this from him would be like nerfing every other legend’s strong suit.” Whether or not Respawn will change the way the Gun Shield interacts with damage remains to be seen. However, the issue clearly has players split on how much protection the ability should actually provide, so it could be something devs look into in the future.

Apex Legends Post Malone event: New LTM, unique skins, and more – Dexerto
Apex Legends Post Malone event: New LTM, unique skins, and more Twitter: Post MaloneApex Legends is teaming up with artist Post Malone for a special one-off event, which will introduce a new limited-time mode, and a set of very unique skins, in part designed with Posty himself. Post Malone is a big gamer, and Apex is his favorite game – he said as much last year when he dabbled in some Twitch streaming, explaining that he loves the BR genre, and for him, Apex is the best. Clearly, Respawn took notice, and so a collaboration was set in motion, with the Post Malone event starting in Apex Legends on November 7. Here’s what you can look forward to. Three Strikes LTM The highlight of the event will be the Three Strikes LTM. Certainly unlike anything we’ve had in Apex before, as the name implies, you will have ‘three strikes’ before you are out. That means, if your squad is eliminated, don’t worry – you’ll all come back. Unless, that is, you have been eliminated for a third time, in which case you are finally eliminated for good. When your team is wiped, you all respawn with your gear, but you get a strike – 3 strikes and you’re out. – Downed players cannot be damaged – Reviving is crazy fast – you can do it in the middle of firefights – Mirage and lifeline are very strong in this mode thanks to the fast revives – The event lasts two weeks, with this mode available for the full two weeks. Event cosmetics Post Malone is a fashion icon, and he’s bringing some of his signature style to Apex. He worked closely with the team at Respawn to design exclusive new skins, inspired by his looks from music videos or concerts. The designs are not too outlandish though, as Respawn ensured they still fit within the tone of Apex Legends generally. Octane – Touch of Style – Wraith – Acid Wraith – Lifeline – Runaway Hit – Horizon – Hidden Blossoms – These skins are certainly unlike anything we’ve seen before in Apex, and it’s also unclear if they will ever make a comeback, so you might only have one opportunity to pick them up. Camo credits & reward shop You can earn up to 285 Camo Credits per day by completing Daily Challenges and use them to unlock event cosmetics. There is also an Apex Legends X Post Malone Event badge, which can leveled up four times by completing challenges and earning currency. Twitch Drops Watching select streamers on Twitch for an hour per reward will earn you these drops. Finally, you can also use your camo credits for some IRL rewards too. You will have the chance to win a bomber jacket in a sweepstake by redeeming tokens. Find out the details here. The Post Malone event goes live in Apex Legends on November 7.

Insane Apex Legends portal bug traps players in walls forever – Dexerto
Insane Apex Legends portal bug traps players in walls forever In a bizarre series of events, it appears as though Wraith’s Dimensional Rift ability led to a Diamond-ranked Apex Legends player being stuck indefinitely. Many Legends in Respawn Entertainment’s Battle Royale have an emphasis on movement-based abilities in order to traverse the environment in swift fashion. Wraith’s Dimensional Rift can be used to rapidly get from Point A to Point B or it can come in handy when fleeing from enemies in hot pursuit for instance. Unfortunately for this extremely unlucky Diamond squad however, the portal is what ultimately led to their demise. In a November 25 post, Reddit user ‘agarunov’ showcased how a poorly placed Dimensional Rift exit portal led to the end of his run throughout a Diamond-ranked match-up. “This is literally crazy” the player expressed as his hopes of further climbing through the ranked system were crushed by a completely inescapable bug. Read more: When does Apex Legends Season 4 start? – With only 32 players left scattered across World’s Edge, the squad was well on their way to reaching the late-game until disaster struck and the unlucky glitch trapped the Pathfinder player indefinitely. Thankfully, the odd glitch didn’t impact the entire team, as the two remaining members were able to carry on with their looting and engage in gunfights regardless of the sticky situation they were in. Even attempting to use the Grappling Hook and the Zipline Gun to break free from the shackles of the extraordinary bug proved fruitless. There was simply nothing that the Pathfinder could do to get out of the wall that he was trapped inside of. Jokingly responding to the portal-induced bug, Reddit user ‘Grimy_Buzzkill’ sarcastically stated that this is “the Pathfinder nerf we’ve been waiting for.” A recently conducted survey of nearly 2,000 dedicated Apex Legends players indicated that a large majority of players view Pathfinder as the most overpowered character in the game due to his Grappling Hook ability. Amusingly enough, Wraith was the second most powerful character in the game according to the study. However with a glitch as devastating as this, perhaps Apex Legends players will be reconsidering that stance in the very near future.

Apex Legends popularity takes a big dip on Twitch as Season 13 hype slows – Dexerto
Apex Legends popularity takes a big dip on Twitch as Season 13 hype slows Pathfinder twitch logoApex Legends has just endured one of its biggest dips in viewership on Twitch for single month, with June representing a near-40% decline compared to May – but why has this big drop-off occurred? At the start of May, the new Season, the 13th in the game’s three-year history, was launched and brought fresh hype once again. Although exact player counts for Apex Legends aren’t revealed, one method of measuring this hype is through Twitch viewership. In May, average concurrent viewership jumped to 109,000, a slight increase from 92,000 the month before. However, in June, viewership has dropped down to only 69,000 – a 38% decline. This has also led to a sharp decrease in hours watched, dropping from 81 million to only 50 million – the lowest hours watched since December 2021. Why has Apex Twitch viewership dropped? Streamers have been noticing this decline too, with SoaR streamer Draynilla telling his fellow content creators not to be discouraged if they have seen a drop in numbers. apex views on twitch have dropped over 45% since last season so don’t be discouraged if ur not seeing the numbers you normally see / want!! youre doing just fine 🥳🤩 — SoaR Dray (@draynilla) June 29, 2022 But, it’s not common for the second month of a new season to take such a drastic hit to Twitch stats, so what could be behind the change? Although some might suggest that Twitch overall might be down in the summer months, Twitch’s total average viewership remained the exact same as the previous month, at just over 2.5 million. Rival games like Valorant (+1.5%), Fortnite (-5.6%) and Warzone (-8.1%) only saw small fluctuations to their viewership, compared to Apex’s -38.9%, via SullyGnome. So we can assume that the issue is on Apex’s end, rather than any external factors. Part of the reason could be the big change to Ranked in the new season, which has pushed some streamers away from playing it so much. Total streamers for Apex dropped by 13%, and hours streamed dropped by 20%. Apex’s gameplay has also faced a number of challenges in Season 13, most notably the input lag on Xbox consoles, which has made it nearly unplayable for many on that console. To compound this issue, complaints about faulty hit registration have been rife this season, which may have led to a decrease in players overall, thus making people less interested in watching the game too. Whatever the cause, Respawn Entertainment will be hoping that whatever they have cooked up for the next in-game event, followed by Season 14 in August, will be enough to rekindle the interest. And it’s important to remember that Apex is still an immensely popular game, even if it has taken a dip. The ALGS Championship also begins on July 7, and there are likely to be rewards for watching the event on Twitch, which should boost viewership again.

Apex Legends “pop-up ad” bug gives new meaning to Rampart Takeover – Dexerto
Apex Legends “pop-up ad” bug gives new meaning to Rampart Takeover Respawn EntertainmentRampart’s Town Takeover has given Apex Legends a new POI to explore, but a novel “pop-up ad” bug makes it impossible to ignore her influence on the game after the Evolution Collection update. The Amped Modder’s Big Maude ship has revealed itself on World’s Edge, but she’s also had an impact on the Arenas mode – with specially modded paintball weapons that are fun to use. But it’s in the 3v3, round-based playlist where there’s a glitch with Rampart’s update that a few players have been coming across. Basically, it keeps the buy-menu on the screen, with some people saying it lasts all throughout the Arenas match. To get an idea of how it looks, Reddit user ‘djkingsta’ showed their screen during a game that had the menu fixed in the middle, making it hard to see basically anything ahead of them. “Loaded into a game, took a little longer than usual and the special deals were stuck on my screen for that whole game,” they said. Read more: When is the Apex Legends Halloween event? – It wasn’t long before others quipped about the bizarre glitch, with some liking it to one of those pop-up ads that you just can’t get away from. “These pop-up ads are getting out of control,” a user said. While this glitch isn’t widespread throughout every Arenas match, there have been a few people reporting the same issue. “Now that is Rampart takeover, literally,” another person quipped, seeing as the addition of Rampart’s shop is causing a few headaches. Respawn Entertainment typically patch these problems once they become aware of them. But this glitch comes on the heels of other issues in Apex Legends after the Evolution Collection event, that’s primarily affected the game’s servers. With the current season days away from ending, Apex Legends players are looking forward to future patch updates to fix some of these bugs.

Apex Legends and Pokemon inspired an unbelievable Wattson collectible card – Dexerto
Apex Legends and Pokemon inspired an unbelievable Wattson collectible card Respawn Entertainment / Pokemon Company via The VergeAn Apex Legends player used his talents to pull off an amazing Wattson collectible in a similar vein as nostalgic Pokemon holographic cards, leading to an epic creation that has fans wanting more. Respawn Entertainment introduced a full roster brimming with personality when they released their battle royale on February 4, and the developers have continued that trend with their latest legends in Octane and the upcoming Wattson. Fans have rallied around these characters for various reasons, and the more creative members of the Apex community have been in full force with epic artistic twists that gives people new ways to appreciate their favorite legends. In a Reddit post, user ‘teamNEWYORK’ showed off their younger brother’s incredible custom Wattson card design. The creation comes complete with info, abilities and the classic holographic shimmer seen in various trading card games (TCG), but that most people will best remember from Pokemon. “My kid brother can’t decide if he’s a bigger fanboy for Apex or Pokemon, so he made this,” teamNEWYORK said. “He also says this is his dibs on Wattson.” If there was an official Apex Legends card game it seems like this Wattson concept would have a pretty useful ability since since someone would be able to “play this card only if (your) current active weapon is the Mozambique. Search your deck for a gold Wingman and place it in your hand.” 600It’s unknown if the young creative is working on a larger Apex TCG but his simple Wattson ability hints at deeper layers of strategy with “active” weapons and a gold variant of weapons. Regardless the card had tons of people wondering how the artist managed to pull of the effect but the Redditor was only able to provide a bit of insight: “I believe the image is printed on an actual Pokemon TCG holo card. Dude’s got a whole process.” Apex Legends Season 2 is bringing tons of additions to the game The Apex community is eagerly anticipating the arrival of Season 2’s launch on July 2 since it’ll bring the new engineer to the fray. Along with Wattson, players got a look at the L-Star that will finally release after months of leaks as well as a possible update for Bloodhound that could have a major impact to their kit. Season 2 of Apex Legends is sure to bring tons of reasons to hope back into the game by giving players tons of new content to unlock and explore.

Apex Legends players worry game is “dying” after controversial Battle Pass changes – Dexerto
Apex Legends players worry game is “dying” after controversial Battle Pass changes RespawnApex Legends players have been voiced concern for the game’s future after Respawn announced a major Battle Pass overhaul. Starting with Season 22, the battle royale will no longer allow Battle Pass purchases with Apex Coins – real money will be the only eligible option. Some have reacted by accusing publisher EA of being motivated by greed, with the Battle Pass changes serving as a catalyst for players to re-emphasize their issues with Apex Legends like monetization, server issues, cheaters and more. When asking the simple question “Is Apex dying?” on Reddit, the thread’s author admitted they had “less and less” motivation to play, specifically naming cheating, “messed up” matchmaking, and “Respawn/EA just turning the game into a cash cow,” as reasons for their drop in interest. Responses followed suit. Several singled out matchmaking as the primary problem area. “Skill-based matchmaking ruins pubs,” one reply stated. “Matchmaking is literally the number one problem with the game and the devs don’t give a single sh*t,” another echoed. The aforementioned battle pass changes were a core pain point for many. “New battle pass requires IRL money instead of the coins you have saved,” one user stated in their list of current misgivings. “I opted in for the battle pass for the first time last night,” said another, adding “Then this news dropped and I feel like Respawn/EA swiped $10 out of my pocket and left me some stickers and a 25-cent toy.” Others attributed the “high barrier to entry” as the culprit preventing Apex from “attracting new players and having them stick around.” “I mean, it has the lowest player base almost in the game’s history, so it’s not good. But ‘dying’? I don’t think so. Just a lull while they work some things out” said a more optimistic player. Per SteamDB, Apex Legends’ concurrent player count on Steam peaked at 329,663 in June. This was the lowest total of 2024 so far and a drop of just under 100,000 from May 2024. These figures don’t take into account population numbers for other platforms, most notably Xbox and PlayStation. Apex Legends is still going strong, but these player count numbers show a steady decline brought on by issues the community need to see addressed for them to return.

Apex Legends players worried teamers are ruining Solo mode – Dexerto
Apex Legends players worried teamers are ruining Solo mode Respawn EntertainmentRespawn added the much-requested Solo mode for a limited time at the start of Apex Legends Season 21, and some players are already ruining the fun. Solo mode in Apex Legends has been a hit to kick off the new season as players can hop in for a new refreshing experience after queueing the default mode, or test their skills in one-on-one combat. We at Dexerto have even advocated for it to become a permanent game mode. The Apex community has been calling for a Solo version of the battle royale for a while, as most games in the genre have a mode where players drop in without a team. However, some players are trying to abuse the mode and earn easy wins by teaming up with opponents. Multiple players have reported reaching later parts of the game and dealing with one or two teams of players in the Solo mode. “Was in a game yesterday and scanned a survey beacon, almost everyone in the area was paired up and no gunshots going off. This is wild,” one Reddit post about teaming in Solo mode said. On X/ Twitter, some players also reported dealing with players teaming up in Solo mode lobbies. “Respawn needs to create an anti-teaming system and then make it permanent,” FURIA content creator pOkiz said about the mode. The last time Apex Legends had a Solo mode was in 2019 with the Iron Crown Collection Event. In 2023, Respawn said it didn’t have plans to re-introduce the mode, despite calls to bring it back, stressing that Apex was a team game. The mode is only back for a limited time, about half of Season 21, with Duos coming to replace it. But based on reports from those competing in the mode, Respawn may have been right with its assessment that Apex is a team game as players want to team up even in Solo matches.

Apex Legends players worried for game’s future as Apex Mobile is shut down – Dexerto
Apex Legends players worried for game’s future as Apex Mobile is shut down Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have expressed concern for the future of the battle royale following the surprising news that its sister title, Apex Legends Mobile, will officially shut down later in 2023. The news that Apex Legends Mobile will shut down in May 2023 came as a huge shock on January 31. Respawn’s statement described the decision as “painful” and explained: “Factors beyond our control have prevented us from maintaining the high-quality experience and content our players deserve.” While some players used the opportunity to call for mobile-exclusive Legends, like Fade and Rhapsody, to make their way into the main game, others have expressed concern for the series amid other reports that Apex Legends has not been as successful as EA had hoped. Apex Legends players worried after Apex Mobile shut down A series of Reddit posts captured players concerns, with plenty questioning how safe Apex Legends’ future is given the decision to sunset one version of the BR. One player, replying to the announcement that Mobile will cease to operate in a few months, said: “Apex console will be next if they don’t start making improvements.” Another explained they were worried about Respawn’s silence regarding Season 16, which is set to begin in a couple of weeks: “Damn, now I’m getting a bit scared, so much money was dumped on that project. I know a whole different company was working on it, but still, to just kill the project so soon is shocking.” A third predicted a “death spiral” from EA and Respawn, saying: “We may actually begin to see a death spiral from here like many other EA acquired studios. Once they’re in it, they usually can’t escape until a shutdown.” It’s unsurprising that such a major decision has fans worried for the future though. It should be said that, at the time of writing, there is nothing to suggest the main Apex Legends title is in jeopardy or close to a shutdown. However, news of Apex Mobile’s demise was followed by confirmation from EA that Apex did not perform as well as had been hoped in the past quarter. We still expect Season 16 to drop as normal on February 14, bringing a major overhaul to Legend classifications and some new weapons.

Apex Legends players worried by ‘kidnap’ hacks ruining matches – Dexerto
Apex Legends players worried by ‘kidnap’ hacks ruining matches Respawn/EAApex Legends players have voiced their concerns about the rise of ‘kidnap’ hacks that are stealing streamers and other fans out of matches and placing them into the Firing Range. Just like many of its other battle royale rivals, Apex Legends has had its fair share of headaches stemming from cheats and hackers over the last few years. Respawn Entertainment have attempted to crack down on hackers with constant ban waves – and they’ve also just teased some upgrades for their anti-cheat system – but things have gone above and beyond the typical aimbots and wallhacks recently. Over the last few days, there has been a rise in hackers being able to take players directly out of their match and place them into the Firing Range all by their lonesome – prompting some fans to label it as the ‘kidnap’ hack. Naturally, some players are concerned by it. Apex Legends fans concerned about hackers ‘kidnapping’ players As noted, the kidnap hack is exactly what it sounds like. One minute you’ll be locked in an intense firefight with enemies, and then you’ll be sent to a loading screen before being placed in the Firing Range. While streamers and high-level players have been the main targets so far, it can happen to anyone, and that’s got fans pretty spooked. “Pretty insane hack. They actually triggered a level load on a remote client. This better be patched asap. What’s next? Malware injection?” asked Redditor mobani. “I already haven’t been playing Apex because of the bugs, but just the fact that this is even possible has me pulling out permanently,” added another. “Dude, if we see some CoD theater injection sh*t I’m gonna lose my sh*t,” commented another. Some suggested that the hacks have meant that Respawn has “lost almost all control” of their own game, and the battle royale could go the way of Titanfall 2 – which has been taken by hackers before. It remains to be seen as to whether or not the devs can get this exploit patched up before it becomes widespread and ruins the experience for everyone, not just a select few unlucky souls.

Apex Legends players worried Bangalore will be useless in Season 12 with Maggie added – Dexerto
Apex Legends players worried Bangalore will be useless in Season 12 with Maggie added Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are concerned that Mad Maggie’s Tactical ability is going to make Bangalore completely useless in Season 12. Despite maintaining a stable pick rate of just under 5% in Season 11, a lot of the community believes Bangalore needs a buff to compete in the current meta. This is due to the number of new Legends that have arrived in recent seasons with wallhack or scan-based abilities. As Bangalore’s kit revolves around her smoke grenades, these characters directly counter her in skirmishes. Now, with Mad Maggie arriving on February 8 with a Passive that temporarily highlights enemies that she’s damaged, Bangalore mains are concerned the Professional Solider will be useless in Season 12. Bangalore mains worried she’ll be useless in Season 12 On January 31, Respawn revealed all of Mad Maggie’s abilities in the Defiance gameplay trailer with her Passive, Warlord’s Ire, temporarily highlighting any enemies she’s recently shot. While this won’t have a huge impact on the majority of Legends, it directly counters Bangalore’s smokes, and fans of the Professional Solider have made it very clear they’re not happy on the Apex subreddit. “Do the devs hate bang or something, they are constantly adding more and more wallhack legends… every new legend doesn’t need f***ing wall hacks”. Some users have even claimed that due to the number of scans in the game, Bangalore’s Tactical is more useful to her enemies than herself: “It is kinda odd that a character’s tactical can help the enemies much more than herself”. Do the devs hate bang or something, they are constantly adding more and more wallhack ledgends but not doing anything to bang. Every new ledgends dosen’t need fucking wall hacks. It’s not even like bang is bad no, she is just so outclassed. Her passive is her saving grace. byu/CrookedWeevil58 inapexlegends A set of solutions have been put forward by players, including making Bangalore’s smokes anti-scan so she can remain undetected while inside her Tactical. “They should make it to where Bang cancels all scans through the smoke,” wrote one player. “Then IMO it would be balanced and a buff to Bang”. However, due to her stable pick rate, it’s unlikely Respawn will want to buff the Professional Solider anytime soon. So, for now, it’ll just be a case of seeing how much of an impact Mad Maggie’s arrival will have on Bangalore’s popularity.

Apex Legends players warned against viewing stats as Respawn investigates crashes – Dexerto
Apex Legends players warned against viewing stats as Respawn investigates crashes RespawnApex Legends’ latest update has caused mayhem for some players who are simply trying to view their stats. Respawn has now addressed the issue and provided a solution for affected players. The recent patch, which was intended to address various gameplay, graphics, and store-related issues, has unintentionally caused a significant problem for some players. A number of gamers have reported their games crashing when they attempt to view their lifetime player stats. Respawn, the developer behind Apex Legends, has now addressed the issue, giving an update on the problem and, fortunately, providing a quick fix and advice for affected players. “As an update on the above, stats pages remain bugged, however, we have pushed out a fix for players who are stuck crashing due to weapon mastery level ups. This required weapon mastery to be disabled. “The team is still working on a full fix for the above and getting weapon mastery back online. In the meantime, we advise against going to any player stats-related screens as it will cause your game to crash. “More updates to come, and thank you for being patient with us as we work through a fix!” While the issue isn’t making Apex Legends unplayable, gamers have simply been advised not to check their stats pages as they remain bugged. The recent Apex Legends patch also brought several updates, including: A reduction in the Rev shell damage event challenge from 1000 to 500. – Fixes aimed at improving graphics and performance on the Nintendo Switch. – A resolution for an issue that was preventing players from upgrading their battle pass. – Fixes for PC graphics, specifically related to the Dynamic Streaming Budget setting. – However, along with the current stats page issue that’s causing crashes, Respawn is still investigating other problems that players have reported, including: Playing at 165+ FPS may cause stuttering during some gameplay scenarios – Legends may rotate when exiting a Trident – Crashes referencing FS_CheckAsyncRequest when loading into a map – For now, Apex Legends are urged to steer clear of checking their stats as Respawn irons out the kinks.

Apex Legends players warned about Olympus spot that breaks Wraith Ult – Dexerto
Apex Legends players warned about Olympus spot that breaks Wraith Ult Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are having a hard time popping abilities on Olympus, seeing as certain spots in the game can break Wraith ults, among others. There are a few spots across Apex that are known to be troublesome for picks like Pathfinder and Wraith. Ultimates and such go have been found to go missing for no apparent reason, which can obviously dampen the playing experience. Placing Apex Legends ultimates in the wrong places can disrupt characters’ abilities when on moving platforms, but in the heat of battle, you might not know what qualifies. That’s why members of the community were confused when it would happen to them, which may explain why others are warning about such spots on Olympus. Reddit user ‘ZileWrld’ was confused after his Wraith ultimate broke immediately after placing it down, and opened the floor as to why that happened. Others were quick to point out that the busted interaction occurred because the player had placed it on a moving platform. On Olympus, they were trying to give the team a route to reposition but started the Dimensional Rift on the base of Olympus’ Grow Towers. While players can easily discern what a moving object is, the Grow Towers’ spinning platform can seem really ambiguous since it rests on solid ground. But that’s where ZileWrld put down the portal and, sure enough, came out the other end with nothing to show for his ult. Players have had to learn about these kinds of spots the hard way. Though many have expressed their frustration on recurring ult interaction, it’s also believed that this won’t be patched out soon. Apex Legends had problems in the past when it comes to missing ultimates, so it’s best to know where you can place an ability as much as where you can’t.

Respawn fixes “instant” Apex Legends death spots on new map Storm Point – Dexerto
Respawn fixes “instant” Apex Legends death spots on new map Storm Point Respawn EntertainmentStorm Point is the fourth and latest map to be added to Apex Legends, and while its launch was popular, it was plagued by bugs. One specific glitch, which caused players to instantly die just by going to a certain location, has now been fixed however. Released with Apex Legends Season 11, Storm Point is the latest map to arrive in the game. Set in Gaea, the map is unlike anything we’ve previously seen in Apex, with its tropical and colorful beaches to the Spiders and Prowlers spawns that drop loot. However, Storm Point looks to be a bit unpolished in some areas, as players were instantly dying after falling through specific parts of the map. With the release on November 2, players slowly began sharing their videos of them falling through the map in specific areas. If you’re unfortunate to fall through one, it’s instant death for you. Professional Apex player for Team Liquid hodsic posted a clip of him falling through the map, right after he had called out that he was “safe” to his teammates. Instead, they were left to pick up his respawn banner. Another player also shared another instant death spot, falling under the map at the completely opposite side of the map to hodsic. I found a portal to the underworld @alphaINTEL @PlayApex #ApexLegendsS11 pic.twitter.com/awE4MrRqn7 — 💰han (@shaleesii) November 3, 2021 Respawn patches out instant death spots on Storm Point There were two different locations that led to instant death — at least players were aware of — around Thunder Watch and Barometer. However, these two locations have since been fixed as of a November 5 hotfix. “Removed a kill trigger that covered some holes where players could fall underneath the map,” Respawn said. Additionally, we: 🔸 Removed Double Tap hop-up from crafting 🔸 Removed a kill trigger that covered some holes where players could fall underneath the map 🔸 Re-enabled Firing Range third-person easter eggHave a great weekend, legends. Catch you around Storm Point. 😎🏝️ — Respawn (@Respawn) November 6, 2021 Still, it’s a good idea to keep your wits about you around these areas. With Storm Point being 15% larger than World’s Edge and having 17 POI’s, it’s understandable for some small areas to be missed by the dev team — so be mindful of any further glitches on the new map.

Apex Legends players want Wattson ability change to fit her story – Dexerto
Apex Legends players want Wattson ability change to fit her story One Apex Legends fan has pointed out a potentially fatal flaw with how Wattson reacts to enemy fences in comparison to her own. Wattson was launched as a new character in the popular battle royale back in season two, making her the second new legend to join the cast of characters after Octane. Since then, she’s become a staple in plenty of squads. Apex Legends players have found ways to humiliate their opponent’s with Wattson’s electric fence trap, as well as taking things to new levels with the introduction of season three. However, some fans have pointed out that the ability could do with a change – especially when it comes to facing enemy players playing as the same character. In a post to the Apex Legends subreddit, user mr_bosssss pointed out that as it stands, Wattson is able to walk through her own traps without suffering damage thanks to her clothing. However, should she go near an enemy trap, everything is forgotten and she’s as susceptible as everyone else. It’s a similar situation with Caustic where he is immune to his and enemy gas traps, but he does have his vision clouded by the gas. While that may be in part of his gas mask, some fans noted that Wattson could very well do with a similar change – even if it’s just a passive buff. User dungeon99 pointed out that a tweak come make her ability less impactful, seeing as enemy Wattson’s wouldn’t take damage, but a clever change could come in the form of her only being slowed by the fence. However, snowy6191 claimed that allowing the legend to walk through fences without suffering any consequences wouldn’t “make sense when balancing is concerned.” Whether or not someone from Respawn will ever take the idea into mind is unknown, but it’s clear that some fans are aware of the difference between Wattson and her fellow legends. It may just be an idea for now, but we’ve seen others garner plenty of support in the past, prompting the developers to make a change.

Apex Legends players want Valkyrie nerfed ASAP after her “busted” ALGS pick rate – Dexerto
Apex Legends players want Valkyrie nerfed ASAP after her “busted” ALGS pick rate Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have called for “overpowered” Valkyrie to be nerfed after seeing her extremely high pick rate in the ALGS. While Valkyrie has always been a fan-favorite character in Apex Legends thanks to her Titanfall roots, it’s only in the last few seasons that she’s risen up as a meta pick. Boasting a 10.4% pick rate in Season 13, the Winged Avenger is widely regarded as one the most powerful legends on the roster, with excellent mobility, disruption, and utility. As a result, she’s become a staple part of the majority of team compositions in the ALGS, with almost every squad picking her in the ongoing tournament. Well, Apex players have picked up on this and are calling for the “best character in the game” to be nerfed. Apex players call for “busted” Valkyrie to be nerfed Players on the Apex Legends subreddit are calling for Valkyrie to be nerfed after seeing her pick rate in the ALGS, with the majority of teams using the Winged Avenger. As she’s been a powerful pick for over two seasons now, it’s obvious a lot of fans are bored of seeing her nonstop in their matches and at the pro level. In their opinion, her overloaded kit makes it impossible for pros not to use her, especially with the repositioning from her Ultimate being so useful in the late game. “She’s the best character in the game by far, it would be surprising if any team decided not to run her,” wrote one user. Others have even gone so far to call her “blatantly overpowered” and “busted”, claiming her “passive [is better] than most characters ultimates”. While the devs haven’t confirmed whether the Winged Avenger is going to be nerfed, Live Balance Designer John ‘JayBiebs’ Larson did reveal back in May that they were waiting until after the ALGS to make any significant buffs or nerfs. So, for now, it’ll just be a case of waiting for the event to be over and seeing if Respawn decides to reduce her power in Season 14.

Respawn confirm Apex Legends fix for frustrating revive and respawn bugs – Dexerto
Respawn confirm Apex Legends fix for frustrating revive and respawn bugs Respawn EntertainmentUpdate – January 15, 7:30 PM: Hours after complaints circulated online surrounding frustrating bugs in Apex Legends, developers at Respawn Entertainment issued a fix to remedy the issues at hand. The “quick server patch” came in direct response to “the bug where actions like sprinting, reviving teammates, and respawning teammates would cancel or restart when holding down the button to execute.” Today, we also pushed out a quick server patch that addressed the bug where actions like sprinting, reviving teammates, and respawning teammates would cancel or restart when holding down the button to execute. pic.twitter.com/gfCbwJlUMq — Apex Legends (@PlayApex) January 16, 2020 Earlier – January 15, 4:15 PM: Players are coming across a bug in Apex Legends that’s stopping them from getting a timely revive from the Legendary Knockdown Shield, which is starting to cost people games. The Grand Soiree event in Apex Legends has a lot of people loading into the game again, but some are finding that the new patch brought in strange glitches affecting different elements in the title, such as Respawn beacons and more. Probably the worst time to find out you’ve been impacted by one of those bugs is in the middle of a heated battle, which is basically the only time people need to use the Resurrection ability from the gold Knockdown Shield. That’s been the case for a lot of players sounding off on Reddit user ‘VlauderLauder’s thread about the revive glitch and its sporadic appearance in games. “Revive glitch is the most crucial problem right now, it needs an urgent fix,” one user said. In the attached clip, a match is down to the last four squads, and the Pathfinder is using the self revive while the circle is closing in. The progress bar goes over just 50% full when it resets, making the player start from scratch. By the time the Pathfinder finally picked themselves up, they saw their two teammates go down right in front of them. The glitch managed to prevent the player from getting up sooner, and was quickly eliminated moments later. While this looked like a simple input error of some kind, more players started to file in, claiming that the exact same thing happened to them in their games. “OMG, I knew I wasn’t going crazy! This crap literally cost me a game today…” user ‘KuribohKutie’ wrote. “I even deleted and re-downloaded the game. This update f**ked my s**t up, man.” It’s not only happening with the knockdown shields, either: players are also reporting the bugs’ appearance when a teammate is trying to revive them. “Yeah I ran into that myself trying to revive my mate,” user ‘OutlawedKiller’ said. “I kept telling him I wasn’t playing it was the game and he left the game.” With players getting back into the swing of the Grand Soiree event, they’re looking to Respawn to fix the revive glitches that are popping up at random times.

Apex Legends players want update to charms & skins as Respawn look into revamp – Dexerto
Apex Legends players want update to charms & skins as Respawn look into revamp Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have access to tons of different cosmetics in the game. From weapon and character skins to charms, there are a bunch of different things to customize the way you play. As the list grows players want a revamp to the menu as it is hard to view all their current charms and skins. Season 10 and the Evolution Collection event have brought in a bunch of new cosmetics for players to unlock, purchase, and use. Before jumping into a game players can equip different skins for their weapons and characters on top of adding charms to their guns. With over 300 charms and tons of skins, the list continues to get longer and longer. While the game is constantly updating it is leaving certain aspects outdated and the community wants to see a specific change to charms as it continues to grow. Apex Legends players await cosmetic menu revamp Players have been waiting for quite some time now on a revamp for the weapons and character customization menu. Earlier in 2021, the devs responded to a Reddit thread saying that they are aware that with more skins and charms being added the list is getting longer to scroll through. The community is complaining that there are over 300 charms and to scroll down the entire list takes ages. Not only that, when scrolling you need to click on each charm and skin to be able to preview it on a weapon. Despite nearly half a year waiting for this to happen players are still wondering if this supposed overhaul is coming to Apex. Even though the devs said this was something they were looking at, it still seems that it could be a couple of months away. With Season 11 on the horizon, players remain hopeful that the menu revamp is coming soon.

Apex Legends players want underpowered Lifeline to get new healing passive – Dexerto
Apex Legends players want underpowered Lifeline to get new healing passive Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has suggested a simple Passive buff for Lifeline that would give her extra healing capabilities during heated gunfights. While there are two characters that fall under the banner of Support in Apex Legends, Lifeline is the only one that fits the traditional role of a healer. As a result of this, she’s maintained a steady pick rate since the release of the game and is currently sitting as the seventh most popular Legend in Season 12. Despite this, the removal of her res-shield back in Season 9 was a huge nerf to the Combat Medic’s kit, and a lot of players think the devs went a little too far with the changes. So, to help her compete in the current meta, an Apex Legends dataminer has suggested a simple buff to her Passive that would increase her healing capabilities, without making her OP. Lifeline buff allows her to carry more consumables In the hopes that Lifeline receives some love in an upcoming patch, Apex dataminer KralRindo has suggested a buff to Lifeline’s Passive and it’s incredibly simple. Unlike a lot of buff concepts, Kral’s idea won’t transform the Combat Medic into an OP pick overnight, but it is a great quality of life change that boosts her healing capabilities. In essence, Kral’s suggestion revolves around giving Lifeline an extra slot for consumable items, similar to how Fuse’s Grenade Passive works. This would allow her to carry around more shields and heals for her squad, even allowing her to drop them mid-gunfight for whoever needs them. https://twitter.com/kralrindo/status/1499078163120463884 Kral has tagged Lead Balance Designer John ‘JayBiebs’ Larson but he’s yet to reply, so we’ll have to wait and see if we get a developer’s insight on the idea. However, as Lifeline doesn’t have a hugely poor pick rate and is the only option for heals, it’s unlikely Respawn will be looking to buff her anytime soon. Despite this, Kral’s idea is relatively minor and simple compared to a lot of other suggestions that have been put forward for Lifeline, so it’s always an option.

Apex Legends players want Triple Take nerfed to fix flashing problem – Dexerto
Apex Legends players want Triple Take nerfed to fix flashing problem Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends’ energy marksman rifle, the Triple Take, is a popular choice for those looking to pop some virtual heads, but the flash produced when bullets hit enemies is blinding players, and has become the latest subject of players’ ire. No matter which FPS you play, there are some guns that are just built a little bit different from others. Apex Legends is no exception, with a clear weapon meta emerging in both the standard battle royale and the 3v3 Arenas mode. Ranking in the A-Tier is the Triple Take, a particularly nasty energy marksman rifle that switches between being powerful up close and personal in the early game, to a lethal sniper as time goes on. Aside from its latent firepower, though, it turns out players have encountered another issue with the Triple Take, and it’s leaving players across the Apex Games with a raging headache and a grey screen. Apex Legends’ Triple Take has a flash problem During an Arenas match where their squad was unfortunately wiped, one player has noticed that, when hit by bullets from the Triple Take, the flash makes it very difficult to see. “The Triple Take’s flash effect should be removed or greatly reduced,” they write. “It totally disrupts tracking and REALLY hurts the eyes.” Attaching a video clip of the 1v1 faceoff between themselves and the opposing Bloodhound, when the video is slowed down the flashes are genuinely slightly painful to watch. Not only is this a headache in the making, it makes following the enemy very difficult. “Honestly never noticed it this bad until this clip. Wowzer,” reads one comment, while another notes “visual clarity is an issue with a lot of stuff.” Others claim that the flashes are a non-issue. “Never noticed it before while playing,” one response states, while another concludes “this is on your screen for milliseconds. To the point in which most people commenting have never realized this happens…” Back in January, though, Respawn acknowledged issues with visual clutter and VFX generally in Apex, and said they were investigating. Respawn is aware of issues with visual clarity and screen clutter/VFX in Apex Legends, and will discuss community feedback on this issue “”in the near future.”” (via @lowkeydbjosh) pic.twitter.com/omTiK3zEg6 — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) January 8, 2022 Whether the flashing is a non-issue or otherwise, it appears some want Respawn to do something about the visual clarity for those on the opposite end of the Triple Take’s barrel. Until then, though, grab your sunglasses and some aspirin, because it’s about to get bright.

Apex Legends players want to fix Mirage’s underwhelming ultimate – Dexerto
Apex Legends players want to fix Mirage’s underwhelming ultimate Mirage has a disappointing Ultimate ability in Apex Legends and fans of the game are brainstorming ways to make it better. Mirage’s ability, Vanishing Act, is increasingly becoming worthless as players learn the game. During Vanishing Act, Mirage sends out three clones and becomes invisible for about three seconds. The problem is, since the ability turns the real Mirage invisible, if enemies see multiple Mirages, it is obvious that none of them are real. To make matters worse, Mirage is unable to fire his weapons while invisible and cannot control when the invisibility ends, making him a defenseless target. Since Mirage is one of the characters in Apex Legends that needs to be unlocked, fans are disappointed that the best way to play him is to not use his Ultimate. Fortunately, they are coming up with ways to improve Vanishing Act. Reddit user bluEyedillusion created a list of possibilities for improving Mirage’s ult. They were clear that not all of these need to happen, or it could become overpowered. Let Mirage leave invisibility upon shooting – Make invisibility completely invisible – Make the clones run around (this is obvious) – Make the clones mimic what the player is doing (climbing, ducking, running, jumping, etc.) – Let us direct where the clones will go by pressing the ult key repeatedly similar to the ability key – Remove the invisibility completely so that we can blend among the decoys – Rework the ult so that it sends just one decoy out like the tactical ability, but also cloaks us – Let ult decoys pretend to shoot at enemies in line of sight – Scrap the ult and make it simply give up to X number of tactical ability uses for Y seconds – Consider making the cloak effect only visible when near the Mirage – Reddit user DawnBlue pointed out that Respawn should be able to fix up Mirage easily, considering they already used a better version of his Ultimate in Titanfall 2. The Holo Pilot did what some are requesting, keep Mirage visible so he can actually blend in with the clones. Respawn has yet to comment on Mirage and are most likely waiting for more data as more players unlock the character.

Apex Legends players want “throwback weekends” with old versions of maps – Dexerto
Apex Legends players want “throwback weekends” with old versions of maps Respawn EntertainmentAfter getting to experience a previous version of World’s Edge in the Winter Express LTM, Apex Legends players want Respawn to introduce “throwback” releases of the game’s maps for them to enjoy. With Apex Legends’ Holo-Day Bash event in full swing, players have gotten a chance to experience the fan-favorite Winter Express limited-time mode once again, which is set on an older version of World’s Edge. That version of the map is no longer available in the rotation, of course, but after getting another taste of it in the LTM, the Apex community is asking the developers for more. “Respawn should give us ‘Throwback Weekends,’ a weekend where a previous iteration of a map is in rotation all weekend long,” Reddit user u/NizzyDeniro suggested.” Basically, the fan is asking the devs to create a new rotation available on weekends, called “Throwback Weekends,” each one featuring a version of Kings Canyon or World Edge from previous seasons. Since its launch in February of 2019, both maps have undergone various flurries of changes over the past two years, with numerous popular landing spots and points of interest being revamped, or in some cases, completely removed. The original Capital City on World’s Edge and Skull Town on Kings Canyon are just examples of iconic locations that players want to enjoy again but can’t because they’re not in the maps’ current iterations. Some players even suggested bringing back content from the original Apex Legends release, with one user saying “Can I get a season 0 Kings Canyon please.” The post has been well-received, amassing almost 20,000 upvotes as well as hundreds of replies expressing support of the idea. While some expressed doubts on whether this is feasible due to issues of file size and other considerations, the community seems to be overwhelmingly on-board with the suggestion. One user pointed out that bringing back old maps could help the player base, saying “I think it will bring lots of people online too. Can you imagine Season 3 Cap City now with the new legends?” The idea could also benefit newer players: “I just started playing the middle of last season. I would love to go back and get to play some of the old maps,” a user said in reply to the concept. Unfortunately, no one from Respawn has commented or replied to this request yet, despite its growing popularity, so there’s no indication this is in the devs’ plans for now.

Apex Legends players want simple Warzone map feature to be added – Dexerto
Apex Legends players want simple Warzone map feature to be added Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have called on Respawn to add a simple pre-match feature that is prominent in other battle royales, including Call of Duty’s Warzone. The battle of battle royales means that, on occasion, the player base for Apex Legends looks enviously at what Fortnite and Warzone are getting, and vice versa. In the past, Apex fans have suggested that the game would benefit from adding more mobility (thought to be coming in Season 10 in the form of cable cars), while Warzone players have suggested the CoD battle royale should implement penalties for early quitters. Now, with Season 10 coming soon to the Titanfall battle royale, Apex players have identified a simple Warzone feature they want to see. A July 23 Reddit post from DANNYonPC requested that Respawn add POI names to the pre-match drop-ship route. They also suggested that it should be ‘triggerable’ like the replicator locations in-game, meaning players who don’t need the POI names displayed could opt-out. It would allow players to clearly see the location names, regardless of where the drop-ship goes. New players, in particular, would stand to benefit from the change, allowing them to quickly learn the map and avoid the busiest areas off the drop. The suggested change can join the list of features players want to see in Season 10. It seems unlikely they’ll be added into the update this late on, but players have plenty of new content to look forward to. Seer has been revealed as Season 10’s Legend, a tracker with a heartbeat sensor and a plethora of micro-drones. His reveal garnered major praise online, with many excited to see how he slots into the meta and challenges the current information harvester Crypto. We’ll have to wait and see if he drops into a Kings Canyon, Worlds Edge, Olympus or Tropics that has POI names displayed, as is the case in Warzone.

Apex Legends players want simple Fortnite feature to make finding games easier – Dexerto
Apex Legends players want simple Fortnite feature to make finding games easier Respawn/Epic GamesApex Legends players want a simple, yet incredibly helpful feature added to the game that would allow them to spectate friends’ games in progress as they wait to find another match. Over the last two years, Apex Legends and Fortnite have shared quite a number of features including loot vaults, respawn points, and others. As a result, fans of both games often suggest that Respawn Entertainment and Epic Games simply take inspiration from new and existing features, and bring it to their own battle royale. In both games, you have the option to join a friend’s lobby even if they’re in a match and then simply wait for them to finish. It can be a little boring, of course, but Fortnite and other battle royales give you the choice to separate while you wait. Well, Apex Legends players want Respawn to follow suit and give them the chance to entertain themselves while they wait for their friends to finish up their games. “The one idea from the “unspoken game” that would actually be pretty good,” said Redditor HissingLemon, referring to Fortnite. “They should just copy what fortnite did with the party system,” added another. Some other fans went beyond the Fortnite comparisons and pointed out that it’s actually a feature in the mobile version of PUBG and Call of Duty. On the flip side, some players argued that the option would put additional stress on the game’s servers – which Respawn has said time and time again is something that they want to avoid where possible. That’s why we don’t have final killcams and the likes. The idea has got plenty of backing from players, but as always, the final call sits with Respawn and whether or not its something they want to tackle.

Apex Legends players still want Gold Shield swaps to be changed – Dexerto
Apex Legends players still want Gold Shield swaps to be changed Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players want a simple quality of life option in the battle royale that will let them instantly pick up items like Gold Shields to avoid crucial blunders in the game. As it is, there’s a small delay in picking up some items, notably on consoles. But players are finding inconsistencies in the delay and it’s causing some frustrations, especially when it slows you in pivotal fights that could decide a match. That’s what happened to user ‘Punyr’ who wants to add a ‘tap’ option for Gold Shields found in death boxes and the like. In his clip, the game is down to the last three squads alive in the Duos lobby. The player is navigating around multiple people and even eliminates a team to narrow it down to only two factions. But the battle left Punyr with low shields. When they went to the death box of the person they had just killed to pick up a fresh Gold Shield, they didn’t anticipate the ‘Hold A’ prompt to switch out the armor. This had them scrambling back to the box to locate and hold the button in order to swap shields. By that time, the remaining opponent found an opening to take out Punyr and end the game. “Aw man you had it as well,” another user said. “Yeah I don’t know why the game does this, no matter whether it’s purple or red it seems to think the gold shield is lesser for some reason.” (Timestamp at 20:04 for mobile viewers) Other players pointed at a similar situation that happened in Game 7 of the ALGS Championship final circle where Cloud9’s knoqd can be seen trying to salvage armor but can’t in time. While there’s speculation as to why the game makes you hold the button to pick up the item, players still want a simple option to insta-swap shields. An option like that in Apex Legends could cut down on the ambiguity of what gets insta-grabbed and save players from having to fiddle with death boxes in the worst moments.
