  • Apex Legends players want feature from Apex Mobile to combat rage quitters – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want feature from Apex Mobile to combat rage quitters Respawn EntertainmentA feature in Apex Legends Mobile has players asking Respawn to implement a similar tool in the main title to combat rage quitters, leavers, and disconnected players. Teams dropping into the Apex Games can be at a massive disadvantage if one of their squad members is missing. Whether from a bad internet connection or a troll looking to ruin matches, being a man down can routinely happen. Apex Mobile has accounted for the occasional leaver by simply turning the abandoned character into a controllable bot that has two preset actions. This means that while the team is still down a player, at least the squad still has three bodies to take into a fight. It’s a feature that could provide a lifeline in a bad situation and players want it in the main game. After seeing Apex Legends Mobile’s ‘Follow’ and ‘Battle’ commands for character bots, some want the devs to expand the system. “They might as well port Apex Mobile to switch with all of the cool things it’s getting and it would probably run better,” one player said. Meanwhile, another person wroye: “Omg this is such a good feature. Apex is becoming popular even before its release now we can take care of our teammates and not leave him behind.” Respawn has implemented measures in the past to combat leavers and rage quitters to punish a player who abandons the match. But people would also appreciate an initiative to give players still in the game some help should they need it. • Apex Legends players want Respawn to “nuke” Fragment from World’s Edge – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want Respawn to “nuke” Fragment from World’s Edge Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players want Respawn Entertainment to “nuke” Fragment from World’s Edge similarly to Skull Town on Kings Canyon. Those who’ve kept up with Apex Legends’ Season 14 updates know that Respawn revamped Kings Canyon for the new season. Though Kings Canyon’s iconic Skull Town POI was missing for some time, it finally came back in the form of Relic in Season 14. Now, Apex Legends fans want a similar thing to happen to the Fragment POI on World’s Edge for Season 15. Apex Legends players want big World’s Edge changes The discussion popped up on the Apex Legends subreddit after user Shaxxs0therHorn made a post saying it was “time to nuke Fragment like Respawn did to Skull Town.” They go on to explain that they find World’s Edge stale and that Fragment needs a rework to alleviate the problem. “I’m so sick of every single drop in [World’s Edge] at least one squad mate is breaking off to chase kills or drop center building…It’s making the map super stale.” The post gained plenty of traction, with fans jumping in to give their own thoughts on how Respawn could revamp Fragment and World’s Edge as a whole. “If they just swapped Skyhook and Fragment that would be fun. I love dropping Skyhook and it’s basically not changed at all since [World’s Edge] launched,” said dodmaster. Other players suggested much more drastic changes to Fragment, like Powerful_Artist who said, “I say just get rid of half of it. Even 2/3. Leave the ruins. Could be cool.” Additionally, others voiced support for Olympus coming back to the map rotation again. “I have no idea why they vaulted Olympus and not [World’s Edge] when Olympus was only out of the vault for one season. Feels like [World’s Edge] hasn’t been vaulted in ages and I’m honestly sick to death of that map,” said SaintOh. Respawn recently teased some big changes coming to World’s Edge, but those changes haven’t come to fruition just yet. While not every Apex Legend fan wants Fragment to go, it seems Respawn at least acknowledges that the community wants to see it changed up in some way.

  • Apex Legends players want Respawn to copy Rainbow Six feature to fight cheaters – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want Respawn to copy Rainbow Six feature to fight cheaters Respawn Entertainment / Ubisoft MontrealApex Legends players have called on developers Respawn to emulate a feature from Rainbow Six Siege, designed to make cheating in Ranked Matches as difficult as possible. Despite the success of Apex Legends and Rainbow Six Siege, both games experience fairly significant problems with cheaters and hackers, especially at high levels of Ranked play. The games’ developers, Respawn Entertainment and Ubisoft Montreal respectively, have introduced a host of anti-cheat measures to combat the problems but it is still far too prevalent for their liking. However, with Apex Legends Season 12 getting underway on February 8, Apex Legends players are calling for Respawn to emulate an anti-cheat feature recently introduced by Ubisoft. With Year 7 of Rainbow Six Siege, Ubisoft confirmed that as an extra layer of security in Ranked Play, players will be required to link their phone numbers to their accounts. The measure is designed to limit players’ ability to start multiple new accounts and continue cheating, with each account subsequently requiring a new phone number. On February 4, player ‘Sword_Warrior124‘ asked Respawn to implement the same protocol for Apex’s Ranked play, as well as permanent hardware bans. Their post currently sits at over 1,200 upvotes, suggesting many other players would love to see the addition. Plenty also echoed their desire for such a feature, with one replying: “Add both. Make it as obnoxious as possible to get around being banned.” Some players responded skeptically, suggesting it is fairly easy to use fake phone numbers, but many replied to say that anything to make cheating more inconvenient and difficult is a worthwhile addition. One player said: “Sure you can get more phone numbers, but it’s damn inconvenient. More effective than IP or hardware checks.” Whether it gets implemented or not remains to be seen but, with cheaters still a thorn in the side of many ranked players, anything that makes their plight more difficult is surely worth adding.

  • Apex Legends players want Respawn to copy Overwatch to fix “awful” stats – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want Respawn to copy Overwatch to fix “awful” stats Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans are calling for Respawn to copy a feature from Overwatch that allows players to dive deep into their in-game stats with every Legend. It’s been almost four years since the release of Apex Legends, and it today, it’s one of the biggest games in the battle royale genre. While the game is certainly thriving, thanks to the consistent updates keeping it refreshing for players, some can’t help but feel that certain features have been overlooked. As a result, the Apex Legends community is always suggesting new ideas for the developers to implement. Now, players are calling for Respawn to take a page out of Overwatch’s book when it comes to in-game stats. In a September 9 Reddit thread, Apex Legends fan ‘cyalaternerd_’ suggested that the developers should copy a popular feature from Overwatch that allows players to see more of their in-depth stats with each Legend. “Anyone else wish Apex broke down stats on individual legends like OW does,” the fan asked, alongside sharing an image showing stats such as playtime and games played on every Hero. Others were seemingly on board with the idea, with some players taking the opportunity to hit out at the developers. “Apex’s stat window is awful,” one fan wrote. “It was a real disappointment when the devs announced that we would have a stat screen and this is what we got. I would think that having legend-specific stats is a no-brainer.” Another pointed out that it’s especially disappointing when considering that Titanfall had a ton of stats for players. “Especially coming from Titanfall which had an extremely thorough stats system. They broke everything down by individual guns and Titans and all that,” the player said. “I’d love to have stats for each map, legend, and weapon in Apex. Although I assume at this point it’s too late.” It’s worth noting that there are websites that provide these stats to players from the game’s API. However, it’s still disappointing that the developers are yet to implement it in-game. Hopefully, they’ll consider it in the future.

  • Apex Legends players want Respawn to add “insane” 5-person squads mode – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want Respawn to add “insane” 5-person squads mode Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players think a mode that allows more than three people per squad would be “insane and unbalanced” — but a whole lot of fun at the same time. Since day one, the biggest squad size featured in Apex Legends has been three players. There’s also the option to drop in solo or in duos… but what if we had even bigger options? Apparently, that idea seems to be a popular one, as it was a subject that skyrocketed to the top of the Apex subreddit on January 7. 5 person squads in Apex Legends? Posted by user ‘gwarchild911,’ the simple question soon racked up more than 7,000 upvotes just a few hours after going live. It might not be the most balanced mode, but having larger teams than normal seems to be a popular idea. “I want four, 15 man squads to fight it out. Would be one hell of an LTM,” one user suggested, upping the ante even more. “This would be absolutely insane and unbalanced, but it sounds like lots of fun so I’m down lmao,” another added. While it would be an entirely new experience, there is one major issue that could arise: Getting every member of the team geared out. Having five or more players on a squad might make fights more interesting, but it would also turn looting into a whole new game, as well. Just think about the challenges of finding enough ammo with three people; now just imagine getting enough for five people with the same weapon. Adding a mode with five person squads, or even doing something like Fortnite’s Team Rumble — where the whole lobby is split into just two teams — would certainly shake things up. It’s just an idea for now, but who knows? There’s plenty of Apex yet to come in 2022.

  • Apex Legends players want Rampage-style buff for “least picked” sniper – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want Rampage-style buff for “least picked” sniper Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans want to see the “least picked” sniper get a charging buff similar to the Rampart in order to boost its utility. Apex Legends is set to get some pretty big updates to kick off 2023, with the new Spellbound Collection Event introducing new cosmetics and a new heirloom for Seer. With Season 16 set to begin sometime in February 2023, players are eager to see what changes developer Respawn Entertainment has for the roster of Legends and the assortment of weapons. Now, some fans are calling for the Sentinel to receive a Rampage-style buff in Season 16 and plenty of other members of the community seem to agree. Apex Legends players call for charged Sentinel buff The discussion started from a post on the Apex Legends subreddit from user Lenny_72_72, who asked the community if they thought the charged Sentinel “should be able to destroy a door just like the charged Rampage.” They explained they thought it made sense as both weapons use items to charge up and increase their power. For those who may not know, the Rampage’s unique “Revved Up” mechanic allows players to use a thermite grenade to increase fire rate for a brief period as well as break doors down in two shots. The Sentinel sniper Rifle has a similar “Amped” mechanic that allows players to use a shield cell to increase the gun’s damage by 25% for 120 seconds. Unfortunately, the Sentinel does not have the added benefit of breaking down doors while Amped. Many fans thought the change would be welcome, as it’s not too obtrusive and would give the Sentinel a bit more utility in combat. “Yeah why not, it’s already the least picked sniper by the community I reckon,” said one fan. Another player noted that the buff seemed balanced already thanks to the Sentinel’s low rate of fire. “The shot rate means the person behind the door can move.” However, many were quick to note that as long as the change was limited to simply breaking doors and not shooting through them, it would be a welcome addition. Of course, whether or not these changes will make it into Season 16 remains to be seen, but the community seems to agree it would be a welcome change.

  • Apex Legends beg Respawn to remove Storm Point’s Prowlers in ranked playlists – Dexerto

Apex Legends beg Respawn to remove Storm Point’s Prowlers in ranked playlists Respawn EntertainmentThe inclusion of the feral Prowler creatures in Apex Legends ranked playlist has players debating what level of randomness should be allowed in the game’s competitive modes. Storm Point debuted several new features in Season 11, including Gravity Cannons and AI-based wildlife nest encounters, but not all of these new additions are working for the playerbase. One of the biggest problems so far has been wild Prowler encounters. These Human vs. AI battles are triggered by venturing within the proximity of the four-legged creatures, spurring them to chase and attack you as you navigate through their territory. While these creatures drop high-quality loot, the PvE aspect of the game is something that isn’t working for many players in the community. The issue with Prowler battles is the randomization of combat and how it can affect an otherwise predictable game. From getting in the way and slowing down any Legend who is trying to escape a fight, to interrupting a team’s only chance to heal, the scaly beasts have proven to be quite the headache. Third-party pressure is something that Respawn took aim at with this new map, but the hostile nature of the Prowlers has left some players feeling like things aren’t any different from previous seasons. Twitter user Ashhhhh__7 said: “Take the prowlers out the ranked games dawg, no way should be fighting a team then get mollywhopped by some animal.” Take the prowlers out the ranked games dawg, no way should be fighting a team then get mollywhopped by some animal — ash 🕳 (@Ashhhhh__7) November 10, 2021 Another player, ClaraAtWork, highlighted the difference between the Prowler zones and the Spider nests that are also spread around the map, the latter of which requires direct interference from players. “Absolutely unnecessary for ranked unless they fix them to be like the spiders,” they said, “where they don’t come out unless you shoot at their little caves.” Absolutely unnecessary for ranked unless they fix them to be like the spiders where they don’t come out unless you shoot at their little caves — Clara (@ClaraATwork) November 11, 2021 While Respawn has teased some plans further changes to the Ranked playlist, there’s been no mention of an adjustment to the spawning of Prowlers or their in-game behavior as of yet. Respawn’s Principal Level Designer Rodney Reece has said that the final circle should “never end on a wildlife location or building” though, which may be an indication that the team is tracking how much these random encounters are affecting games.

  • Apex Legends players want Pathfinder’s Passive from Mobile added to PC & console – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want Pathfinder’s Passive from Mobile added to PC & console Respawn EntertainmentAfter seeing Pathfinder’s new Passive in Apex Legends Mobile, PC and Console players want the Forward Scout’s ‘Friend Reunion’ ability added to the main game. Since the release of Apex Legends back in 2019, Pathfinder has remained a fan-favorite Legend thanks to his unbelievably fun kit and lovable personality. The Forward Scout’s ability to make highlight-reel plays with his grapple and also put a smile on players’ faces with his wholesome voice lines are a perfect combination. However, there’s always been one glaring issue with his kit, and that’s his Passive Insider Knowledge that was rendered useless by the update to Recon Legends. As he technically doesn’t have a Passive anymore, the community has been calling on Respawn to add a new one for countless seasons, and some players think they’ve found the solution on Apex Mobile. Apex players want Pathfinder Passive from Mobile Pathfinder’s Passive has been a hot topic in the community for a long time now, and players are constantly coming up with concepts and ideas to give the devs some inspiration. Well, Apex Legends YouTuber The Gaming Merchant may have suggested the most logical solution yet, pointing out that Pathfinder’s new Passive on Mobile — Friend Reunion would be a perfect fit for the Forward Scout on PC and Console. On Mobile, Pathfinder can use his Grapple to pull downed squadmates towards him and revive them more quickly. This would add a support-style element to Pathfinder’s kit that wouldn’t be too overpowered or compromise the rest of his abilities. While there has been no confirmation from the devs, it’s possible this ability will be added to the main game at a later date and was introduced to Mobile first as a test. However, with Respawn already revealing that they’re in no rush to give the Forward Scout a new Passive, it’s also possible they have no intention of giving Pathfinder the Friend Reunion ability on PC and console. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see but with so many requests from the community for Gibraltar nerfs, a Lifeline rework, and Valk nerfs, it is likely Pathfinder won’t be a priority for a long time.

  • Apex Legends players want Pathfinder nerf reverted because of “broken” Valkyrie – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want Pathfinder nerf reverted because of “broken” Valkyrie Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have called for Pathfinder’s grapple nerf to be reverted due to the current state of Valkyrie, who is considered to be one of the best characters in the meta. Back in 2019 when Apex Legends was first released, Pathfinder was one of the most powerful characters in the game thanks to the low cooldown on his grapple. However, in Season 5, Respawn decided to hit the Forward Scout with some balance changes, nerfing his Tactical cooldown from 15 seconds to 35 seconds. A lot of the community assumed this would push the friendly MRVN out of the meta completely, but in Season 13, Pathfinder is sitting at an impressive 9.5% pick rate. Despite this, players still aren’t happy with Pathfinder’s place in the meta, blaming the Winged Avenger Valkyrie for being too “broken” and calling on Respawn to revert the grapple nerfs. Apex Legends players want Pathfinder nerf reverted Posted to the Apex Legends subreddit, user LedClaptrix believes Pathfinder should be allowed to return to his “former glory” if Respawn is willing to keep Valkyrie in her current state. According to them, the Winged Avenger’s “meta defining” Ultimate, incredible repositioning, and “strong” Tactical, make her overloaded kit extremely difficult to compete against. As a result, they’ve questioned Respawn’s decision to nerf Pathfinder’s grapple back in Season 5, and are calling on the devs to revert the changes. “Pathfinder was nerfed because he was able to reposition too many times during one fight… How does this make any sense with Valkyrie being the in-game in her current state?”. While a lot of the community agrees with LedClaptrix, others claim they are forgetting how strong Pathfinder was before the Season 5 nerf: “Pretty sure you weren’t here or even playing the game when pathfinder was extremely broken before.” According to a lot of players, back in the day, the combination of the Forward Scout’s “hitbox” and “extreme mobility” made him incredibly difficult to takedown. Despite this, although there are disagreements over the power of Pathfinder, the majority of users agree that Valkyrie is in desperate need of a nerf: “Valk is broken is every way, shape, and form”. While the devs are unlikely to make any Pathfinder changes, a Valkyrie nerf could be a possibility with her pick rate steadily increasing and the Winged Avenger making a huge impact in pro play.

  • Apex Legends players want Overwatch-style equipment skins added – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want Overwatch-style equipment skins added Respawn Entertainment / Blizzard EntertainmentPlayers love showing off their coolest character and weapon skins in Apex Legends, and a clever concept shared on Reddit would takes the game’s customization options one step further by incorporating skins for each Legend’s unique equipment. A huge part of any game is the ability for players to customize the look of their characters, and Apex Legends is no different. Since launch, Respawn have provided hundreds of weapon and Legend skins for players to use when expressing their sense of style in-game. Respawn’s battle royale provides players with a near-constant offering of new items to acquire for their favorite Legends. Between in-game event exclusives, frequent store rotations, and new battle pass items added every season, there are plenty of options for players to pick and choose from. While there are plenty of skins already in the game, some fans want Respawn to take their customization offering to the next level. In a post shared to Reddit, ‘u/DimSpartanJ13’ suggests Respawn could add a whole new category of skins for each Legend’s character-specific equipment. In their post, u/DimSpartanJ13 provided several examples of what they think Respawn could do to add some additional customization options for players. “Lifeline’s drone, Crypto’s drone, Revenant’s totem, Bangs’ smoke launcher, [and] Caustic’s Gas trap,” are all noted for their potential to have unique skins. Read More: The easiest way to wall run in Apex Legends – U/DimSpartanJ13 also included several images representing some of the equipment pieces mentioned in the post. This should give players an idea of what they see now, and allow them to imagine what some different skins might look like if they were applied to those pieces of equipment. The proposed system would be similar to what exists in other titles already, namely Overwatch. Blizzard Entertainment has a long history of providing their players with eye-popping character skins, and these usually apply to each Hero’s unique equipment as well (D.Va’s Tokki mech, for example). While most responses to the post expressed support for the idea, there were some questions on how a system like this could affect gameplay. Some players worried that issues could come up like different skins for Lifeline’s D.O.C. drone causing her teammates to miss it if they weren’t paying close enough attention. Other responses offered solutions to these issues. “There is no reason why Apex can’t have these abilities [equipment] skins. Overwatch does it too,” one user pointed out. Having the equipment skin only be visible for the player using it (and their teammates) is one easy solution to avoid potential balancing issues. Respawn hadn’t commented on the post at the time of writing. While this appears to be wishful thinking for the moment, there have been leaks suggesting Respawn is already looking into additional rarities of weapon skins, so players could see a system like this implemented at some point in the future.

  • Apex Legends players want Overwatch-style damage tracker – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want Overwatch-style damage tracker When playing Apex Legends, there’s two key stats you’ll want to look out for in any match: your total kills and total damage. However, the latter is only visible at the very end of the match, and players want that to change. Because Apex is a team-based battle royale, it’s not always about who gets the most kills in a match, but rather the most damage, as it’s easy to clean up a weak opponent that your teammate did most of the work for elimination. The complaint, however, is that until the end of the match, players can’t see exactly how much damage they’ve done. This simple addition to the in-game UI would be a complete game-changer. Rather than only showing the number of kills a player has in the game, Apex Legends fans have requested by popular vote that a damage tracker also be visible in-game at all times. Going a step further, players have also asked that they can see the total kills and damage of their teammates throughout the match. This way, they can see who is carrying the squad and who isn’t pulling their weight. Reddit user Galatex showed off their own version of such a system with a concept. The idea shows the amount of damage dealt by each player alongside their total kills, and how many players or squads are left. The suggestion received high praise on the game’s official subreddit, but some did point out some concerns too. Notably, one commenter gave the example of a similar system used in Overwatch, which resulted in an increase in toxicity, as random teammates would mock underperforming players. “Have you learned nothing from Overwatch?”, one user asked, “it’s one of the things toxic players point to to say their teammates suck, they’re doing better.” Others pointed out another potential downside to displaying damage numbers, suggesting it could result in players aiming for high damage over getting the win. They argued that “This would drive dysfunctional behavior as people then (consciously or otherwise) chase damage numbers instead of trying to win the game.” On the other hand, the number of kills has always been visible, and many players already chase kills more than the win. There’s no indication that Respawn will implement this feature, but they are always listening to player feedback, and have made lots of changes and addition based on requests, so we can’t rule it out either.

  • Apex Legends players want one simple change to make Heirlooms even better – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want one simple change to make Heirlooms even better Apex Legends players are suggesting a simple change that would make the ultra-rare Heirlooms even better than before. The battle royale’s incredibly rare Heirlooms are desired by all players and nothing is harder to obtain or is more valuable than them. However, fans are now suggesting a simple change that would make the rare them even more appealing to try and get. In a Reddit thread on February 4, Apex Legends player vasudevvkm suggested Heirloom changes that would make them so much better than they currently are. The fan suggested that they should come with character selection animation instead of the current voice lines that you get with them. With the thread since amassing close to 8k upvotes at the time of writing, other players are seemingly on board with the change. “Hell, they could literally just have the animated banner poses as the intro animations. Surely that wouldn’t be hard to implement,” one fan commented on the thread. Another reply suggested the devs should even add specific executions for each Heirloom: “Absolutely. Heirlooms should also grant an execution.” “I think it’s criminal we don’t get executions with them,” another added. Reliable Apex Legends leaker KralRindo was a fan of the idea and created a mock-up of what the suggestion could look like if it was implemented. https://twitter.com/kralrindo/status/1489743407803248646?s=20&t=1oi1zkUtOqt7Z9idD_j3AQ For now, this suggestion will sit on the ever-growing list of features players want to see added to the game. However, it’s unlikely we’ll see it introduced to Apex Legends any time soon with Season 12’s release just mere days away.

  • Apex Legends players want next weapon to be LMG but with a twist – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want next weapon to be LMG but with a twist Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are asking Respawn for a new LMG to be added to the arsenal of weapons, but they want it to consume light ammo instead of heavy or energy. Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale is currently in Season 12 and hoists 28 unique weapons that players can use on their path to victory. However, one class that lacks a lot of diversity is the Light Machine Gun. With only four different options and two of them taking energy ammo, players want to see something new. This has a plethora of players in a Reddit thread that are requesting that a new LMG is put into the game, but consumes light ammo instead. Apex Legends fans think light ammo LMG would fit perfectly In a Reddit post by ‘Shockwave00721’ the user asks if they are alone in wanting a light ammo LMG added to the game.Turns out, many people in the community agree with this as one fan puts it this “has been my biggest request for a while.” Other Redditors brainstormed exactly how this LMG would work. One person said, “I’m thinking somewhere between 5-9 damage per bullet. Make it burn through ammo like the R-99, but more effective at long range.” Apex fans want this LMG to have insane fire rate but do less damage than something like the Spitfire does. They also think it should be easy to use and have little recoil. If something like this is added, it would be the first light ammo LMG in the game and would back leaks from April 2021 that reported on a light ammo LMG being in works. However, right now this is just a fan concept as nothing has been confirmed by Respawn themselves.

  • Apex Legends players want Respawn to set next map in a metropolis – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want Respawn to set next map in a metropolis Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players want Respawn to set the next battle royale map in a futuristic urban metropolis with more buildings and features, rather than the natural settings of Kings Canyon, World’s Edge, and recently Storm Point. Respawn added Apex Legend’s first “city-based” map, Olympus, back in Season 7. However, it’s not quite the futuristic mega-city players hoped for. Instead, it’s a floating palace in the sky, with plenty of greenery. The next map, Storm Point, was introduced in Season 11. But again, rather than being a large-scale metropolis, it pits players against each other on a tropical island that has bases, bunkers, caves, and critters. Both of these maps are now a part of the regular map rotation. However, players have made it clear they want the next one to be set in a sprawling cityscape packed with skyscrapers. Reddit user ‘wing6781’ has gone viral for their opinion, admitting it would be “great” if Respawn added a map that leans less into nature and animals and more into a sci-fi metropolis. They shared an image of a futuristic urban city that has buildings covered in neon lights, flying vehicles, and more to represent their vision. The post drew 5,000 upvotes and sparked a discussion spanning 300 comments. Many people were on board with the idea. “Straight up urban warfare with skyscrapers and city blocks would be the change of pace the map rotation needs,” one player said. “This is what Olympus should have been,” wrote another. Some even pitched their own ideas, too. “Throw in a subway and tunnel system with underground buildings,” someone added. “Maybe the buildings have basements with connecting tunnels between them,” replied a fourth. The top comment pointed out that a city like that does exist in the Apex Legends universe. It’s called Angel City, and it’s a multiplayer map featured in Titanfall, Titanfall Online, and Titanfall 2’s Angel City’s Most Wanted DLC. Only some areas of the city are playable in those maps. However, the fact that Apex Legends is a battle royale game means it could fit a whole lot more. But we’ll have to wait and see whether it’s in Respawn’s plans.

  • Apex Legends players want new Season 20 LTM to be permanent – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want new Season 20 LTM to be permanent Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends’ Season 20 is off to a hot start, and the new Straight Shot LTM is one particular highlight, as fans are lobbying for it to become a permanent mode. Apex Legends‘ limited-time modes, aka LTMs, have been some of the standouts of the battle royale, letting Respawn Entertainment flex their creativity via unique spins on the game’s formula. Some have landed very well with the community, like Three Strikes, which left and was brought back twice due to such high praise. Others, not so much, such as the maligned Revenant Uprising LTM. Season 20 introduced a new LTM at launch to coincide with the fifth anniversary of Apex Legends. Unsurprisingly enough, it’s garnered widespread love and community pleas for it to become permanent. Apex Legends players praise Straight Shot LTM Straight Shot is the newest LTM to join Apex Legends, featuring a shorter version of the standard battle royale. Thirty players drop in a random POI, with an emphasis on faster pacing, and a streamlined loot system. Needless to say, the mode’s arrival has landed very well with the player base, especially in the game’s subreddit. Apex player Kona_Conch shared their thoughts on the mode needing to become permanent: “Straight Shot is fast-paced but still feels like Apex and a BR. Just more action-packed in a shorter amount of time.” They go on to state Straight Shot has become the new casual mode for them and their friends. They weren’t the only ones with praise for the mode, as others chimed in. “I like this mode to warm up for ranked. Much better than sitting in the Firing Range for 20 minutes and shooting at dummies,” one player said. One player even said it jumped up the ranks above Three Strikes: “I agree, I think I even like it over Three Strikes and I never thought I’d say that.” Of course, plenty of other threads in the game’s subreddit highlight the love for Season 20’s standout LTM. Straight Shot is set to leave at the end of February. However, given the success of prior LTMs, it may be possible this one will stick around or return.

  • Apex Legends players want new ‘favorite legend’ system – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want new ‘favorite legend’ system One ingenious Apex Legends fan has come up with an idea that would stop players from missing out on their favorite legends during the selection process. Apex Legends has carved out a niche for itself in the battle royale genre ever since it launched back in early February – with over 70 million players dropping in for at least one game. It was so successful at one point, that it surpassed the mega power that is Fortnite, but couldn’t manage to hold on to the top spot. One big thing that sets it apart from its rivals is the use of legends with their own unique abilities and playstyles. Be it Wraith, Mirage or Crypto, everyone has a favorite but you can’t always get your hands on them. Well, one fan would like to change that. In a post to the Apex Legends subreddit, user deadend1755 laid out their idea for a new way to organize your favorite characters so that you never miss out on at least one of them. In the Redditors plan, players rank their top three favorite legends from first to last, giving them priority during the legend selection phase. If you went away from the game as the selection was happening, the game would, hopefully, take your favorite character first, but if not, it could easily work its way down the list. While it might not seem like the biggest change that the game might need right now, a number of fans were on board with the idea. “This would be great for those challenges that require different legends,” commented xJack_Kass. Others, however, wanted to take it one step further. One Redditor suggested a similar idea also could work for loot, while user McthaGrower noted a random button for legends would also shake things up. Whether or not the Respawn development team would ever take notice of this idea is unknown, considering they’ve likely got other things on their hands. Yet it would certainly be a lifesaver for those players who, or one reason or another, come close to missing out on their favorite legends during the selection phase.

  • Apex Legends players want more incentives for Level 500 players – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want more incentives for Level 500 players RespawnApex Legends fans are calling for more incentives to continue playing as the highest-leveled players have been left with nothing else to grind towards since 2019. Apex Legends has had its level cap set at 500 since December 2019, and it was a huge increase from the cap being at 100 with the game’s launch. However, the frustrated highest-leveled players are calling at Respawn for an update to the progression system as more reach Level 500. As the disappointed max-level players continue to play with no incentives as they’ve already reached the max, there have been many asking Respawn for changes. A post on the Apex Legends subreddit – that has garnered quite a lot of support – has requested that the devs add more progression opportunities past Level 500. Of course, the community has various ideas of how to be achieved. One Redditor has suggested for them to incorporate a prestige system similar to what we see in Call of Duty that rewards players with exclusive badges and weapon skins. Many got behind the idea of a prestige system, with one fan reminding others that the current Respawn devs were the ones who created the prestige system at Infinity Ward. Another commenter suggested that they should either add another 500 levels or add a way to just reset your account level while still keeping everything else. “It other needs another 500 levels or a way to reset to level 0 and keep your badges skins.” It is worth noting that Respawn is aware of players’ frustrations. During a Reddit AMA in August, they revealed that they’re “looking to straight-up increase the level cap with small changes,” as well as “future proof it with some of the other progression mechanics.” However, there’s currently no timeline on when players should expect these changes to arrive, but rest assured they are on the way.

  • Apex Legends players want more characters to be “reborn” like Revenant – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want more characters to be “reborn” like Revenant Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling on the Respawn devs for more Legends to be “reborn” similar to Revenant’s rework in Season 18. Since Apex Legend‘s release in 2019, players have always anticipated a new Legend to be released with each season, giving a breath of fresh air to the popular battle royale. However, with Season 18’s release in August, the Respawn developers took a different approach. Instead of a new addition to the game, the devs instead went back and took a look at a neglected Legend. Considered by the community to be ‘unplayable’, with popularity and pick rate plummeting season over season, Season 18 saw a rework to the “synthetic nightmare” Revenant. It’s fair to say the rework was a clear success, as Revenant ‘Reborn’ now sits above most other Legends when it comes to pick rate. Now players are calling for more Legends to be reworked. Apex Legends players call for more Legends to be reworked In a September 29 Reddit thread, one Apex Legends fan put out a question to the community, asking if they think more Legends should be ‘reborn’ in the future. “Recently I have been playing a lot with Revenant Reborn, I had never really enjoyed playing Rev before they reworked his character and it’s got me wondering, which character who the community has decided is ‘unplayable’ should be reworked next?” the player wrote. They added: “I was a lifeline main for the first year or two of the games release and personally I think a rework for her would be welcomed!” In the replies, the majority of the community were open to the idea. However, many explained they’d want see smaller changes rather than a full rework. “I don’t know if they all need a full reborn but I would like to see at least soft reworks to Ash, Vantage and Lifeline,” they said. “Lifeline and Crypto. Those two are at the top of my list,” another wrote. “I don’t think completely reworking legends is always the answer. With a complete rework you might as well just release a new Legend,” a third added. With Season 19 on the horizon, there’s the possibility that we may see more Legends be ‘Reborn’ after Revenant’s success.

  • Apex Legends players want more after Respawn reveals number of cheaters banned – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want more after Respawn reveals number of cheaters banned RespawnRespawn Entertainment revealed that they’ve banned over 6 million cheaters in Apex Legends to date, but fans are hoping to see that grow a fair bit more. Cheating in multiplayer games has always happened, but there’s definitely been an increased focus on it in the last few years. As games have become more live service, and developers have promised to deliver with anti-cheats, communities do become outraged when someone ruins a game with an aimbot or wall-hack. That’s been true in the case of Apex Legends too, with players routinely complaining about cheaters running rampant. In the early days, Respawn were quick to shut them down, but hackers have evolved over time. Now, the devs have revealed that in the five years since the battle royale released, they’ve banned over 6 million cheaters. According to their stats, Respawn also bans an average of around 100,000 accounts a month too. However, that announcement has split some players. “They expanded their anti-cheat team which is a W,” one said. “Time to start banning Cronus, Strike Packs, and XiM,” another added. “They count the bulls*it bans also..” another argued. “You can ban 100k but if they keep coming back, what’s the point?” commented another. A crackdown on Cronus and Strike Packs – add-ons for controller players – has been on the top of fans’ lists for quite some time. In their August 21 update on cheaters, Respawn also confirmed that they’re “continuing to deploy new tools and technologies faster than ever” to tackle the problems. Whether or not they’ll get after Cronus and Strike Packs, though, remains to be seen. The Apex devs also noted they’re continuing to expand their anti-cheat team as well, with “additional 24/7 coverage” and “added dedicated talent in the particularly impacted Asia-Pacific region.” They may never fully root out cheaters, but they’re continuing their war against them.

  • Apex Legends players want matchmaking preferences for better Ranked teams – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want matchmaking preferences for better Ranked teams Respawn EntertainmentThere’s plenty of ways to drop in and enjoy Apex Legends from Ranked to casual playlists, and players want a matchmaking system to compliment the different kinds of people looking for squads. Simply put, online matchmaking in any game like Warzone, Valorant, and more starts with a communication breakdown simply for not knowing who your other teammates are. This can lead to frustrating instances where no one seems to be on the same page. That’s why Apex players want some form of matchmaking preference that everyone can customize to indicate individual levels of: Chattiness, Motivation, and Teamwork. Not many are familiar with the different ways to look for games and teammates on Discord and the like, but Respawn could lend a hand by implementing the proposed mechanic. Reddit user ‘JackVibe’ created a mockup for what the system would look like that gives everyone a distinct player profile for matchmaking in Ranked or otherwise. In an ideal world, something similar to this would make Apex’s matchmaking smoother for players and overall teams alike. While people agreed that the idea had its merits, not many were convinced that it would help matchmaking times or work in the first place. Still, Matchmaking Preferences would be a way for people to align their playstyles in a more accurate way to help swerve incompatible teammates – trolls notwithstanding. Respawn released the ‘Clubs’ feature back in Apex Legends Season 7, for like-minded players to be able to invite and queue up with each other. Matchmaking Preferences would work in a similar function, but without the social hub component already used in Clubs. Though there are Apex Legends players who’d like a better system than this one, there’s a resounding call to clean up the matchmaking to put people in better games.

  • Apex Legends players want Mario Kart LTM after viral Trident racing clip – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want Mario Kart LTM after viral Trident racing clip Nintendo/Respawn Ent.A viral clip of Apex Legends’ new Trident vehicles has led to calls for Respawn to add a limited-time racing mode similar to Mario Kart, and from the video, it does look like it would be extremely fun. Ever since the Trident was added to Apex, it’s been assumed that, eventually, players would attempt to race them around and not only has that happened, but it’s given fans a great idea for a new LTM at the same time. A clip from YouTuber ‘ItsEazy_HQ’ showing a group of players racing the hovercraft overlaid with Mario Kart effects quickly went viral on Reddit, and it doesn’t take much imagination to see how a racing mode could be put in. “This needs to be added as a permanent game mode, this is so good” one user replied, and seeing as how it’s the most-upvoted comment, plenty of people agreed. But how would something like this actually work? Well, the Trident already comes with a temporary boost ability, which takes care of the red mushroom item. Not only that, but the chosen path around Olympus in the clip works very well as a racetrack already — and with a few changes it could be almost perfect. There are also several items and abilities that could be incorporated directly from Apex as well. Take Octane’s Launch Pads for instance — they can already boost the vehicle in the air, so why not have pre-placed pads across the width of the track at certain points to make things interesting? Additionally, Horizon’s Gravity Lift ability can also boost the craft, and her Black Hole ultimate can trap it in place, perfect to get that annoying second-place racer off of your tail. Crypto’s Drone EMP, Wattson’s Perimeter Fences, and the Arc Star can also stun the Trident for five seconds each, definitely not what you want to happen as you’re putting the pedal to the metal. While there’s plenty of potential here (and we haven’t even talked about the skins and cosmetics that could come out of this), Respawn has shown no signs of introducing a Mario Kart-inspired special mode or event just yet.

  • Apex Legends players want major rework to the in-game store – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want major rework to the in-game store Respawn EntertainmentPlayers of Apex Legends, Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall-esque battle royale, are demanding a rework of the in-game store, as the developers address issues surrounding it. Apex Legends has received community criticism of late, mainly centered around the lack of definitive updates the game has received, particularly when compared to its competitors, like Fortnite Battle Royale, which has a fairly major update once a week. Now though, they are also facing calls to rework the in-game store, particularly after issues were addressed by Respawn on May 18. Apex Legends’ in-game store offers players weapon skins, charms and animations in return for in-game currency, as is fairly typical for games nowadays. EA – publishers for Apex Legends – have previously been criticized for their implementation of micro-transactions into their games, such as the FIFA series of soccer games. However, on May 18, Reddit users noticed changes to the setup of the store, without any item priced by legend token. This shift in appearance was unpopular, and left many Reddit users wondering what the reasons were for this change. Since then, Respawn have replied in a Reddit post, that explains the situation. “We’ve seen some threads asking about what happened in the store with the removal of recolors and just wanted to give some quick context,” it starts. “We had an issue with the store which meant our next batch of recolors didn’t get in the build in time, so we weren’t able to do the next rotation of recolors. Our options were to just show some number of standard skins or to rotate old recolors back in.” It finishes by saying that they don’t want to put colors back into the store so soon after their initial release, and that this layout change is only temporary – changing when they release the game’s next patch. Many users have responded negatively to the post, writing “How about you change the store completely and make skins and camos a reasonable price?”, and another asking for a change to have a complete overhaul of the store itself. Still, the community appears to be growing in confusion as to Respawn’s approach for the in-game store for their incredibly popular game. Hopefully with Season 2, launching in June, there will be more content for players to look forward to, both through earned items by playing, and purchasing cosmetics in the store.

  • Apex Legends players want major equipment changes to overhaul loot pool – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want major equipment changes to overhaul loot pool Respawn/EAApex Legends players have suggested a pretty massive overhaul to knockdown shields and helmets, as they want Respawn to make them work in a similar manner to Evo Shields. All the way back in Season 4, Respawn Entertainment made a pretty big change to Apex Legends when they ditched the original body shields and made Evo Shields a full-time thing. It has proven to be a pretty popular change ever since, as it’s allowed players to be more aggressive in fights and has also cleaned up the loot pool in the process – with the latter being something that Respawn has talked about wanting to do more. Well, if they’re still desiring to tweak the loot pool and do away with some unnecessary items, players have got a suggestion that follows the Evo Shield formula, and it could be pretty successful. The item was put out there by Redditor IntelligentImbicle, who suggested that the devs could remove Knockdown Shields and Helmets from the loot pool, making them items that you start with. In the Redditor’s idea, players would level up their Knockdown Shields and Helmets alongside their Evo Shield, with them progressing from grey to blue, before being capped at purple. Though, they’d leave the gold variants in the loot pool, given their bonus abilities. It didn’t take long for other players to chime in with their support either, urging Respawn to make the change. “Helmets should definitely be Evo,” said one. “Would be nice to not have to choose between helmet and backpack in the crafter,” added another. One player pointed out that the change was also have a knock-on effect for the legends, with Lifeline’s care package ability getting a slight buff, given it wouldn’t have blue or purple armor inside anymore. At the end of the day, though, such a change can only be made by Respawn and would require some serious testing to get right. Though, it’s not completely ridiculous to think that it could be a thing in-game.

  • Apex Legends players want major change made to Pathfinder’s Tactical Ability – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want major change made to Pathfinder’s Tactical Ability The Pathfinder is one of the more versatile Legends that players can use in Apex Legends, but many are asking for its Tactical Ability to be further improved. The Pathfinder, a robot with highly advanced artificial intelligence, is the only non-humanoid playable character in Apex Legends. Most Apex Legends players would agree that the Pathfinder is one of the better Legends to play with in the game, especially those who are good with in-game movement. What is the Pathfinder’s Tactical Ability? Of its three abilities, all of which are based around mobility, the Pathfinder’s Grappling Hook Tactical Ability is what a lot of players like the Legend for. It provides the Legend with a grappling hook that can be shot at pretty much anything within its range, allowing it to rapidly move towards the target and get there much faster than if had just ran over there. The Pathfinder is considered to be one of the strongest Legends because its abilities center around mobility. Idea for improvement to Pathfinder’s Tactical Ability On April 8, a player posted an idea on Reddit that proposed some changes to the Pathfinder’s Tactical Ability that would, theoretically, improve it considerably. The post suggested that the Pathfinder should be able to use its Grappling Hook to pull downed teammates and Death Boxes towards itself. This would be an improvement because the Pathfinder would now be able to pull downed teammates closer to revive them, and would also be able to loot Death Boxes without having to go out into an exposed or predictable area to do so. In the post, the player explained that this buff would make sense since the Legend is designated as a Support Legend, and that restricting the improvement to just downed teammates would take out the possibility of teammates trolling each other. Counterarguments to this idea Not everyone on Reddit was in agreement with this concept, some giving their case that the Pathfinder was already strong and doesn’t need additional buffs. Another argument was that players would simply abuse this mechanic to steal the best loot from Death Boxes or troll teammates and toss the boxes over the side of a cliff so they can’t get to the loot.

  • Apex Legends players want Mad Max crossover after awesome Caustic concept – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want Mad Max crossover after awesome Caustic concept Warner Bros/RespawnApex Legends players want to see a crossover with the Mad Max movies after one fan pointed out the striking similarity between Immortan Joe and Caustic. Unlike Fortnite Apex hasn’t had too many IRL crossovers, but some fans think the Mad Max universe would be a perfect setting for our favorite legends. What inspired this? If you’ve seen 2015’s Mad Max Fury Road you might be able to guess that it’s Caustic, and his resemblance to the film’s big bad: Immortan Joe. Players want Mad Max/Apex Legends crossover Just looking at Joe, it’s easy to see the resemblance between him and Caustic. Really, what it all comes down to is the facemask. In Caustic’s case, it protects him from gas, but the reason Joe wears the mask is to hide his facial deformity. We never get a look during the movie, but other official lore confirms this is the case. But if we have Joe, we have to have Max, right? Well, fans think Fuse would make the perfect post-apocalyptic warrior. Plus, he’d probably pull off a leather jacket just perfectly. Other players suggested in the comments that Octane would make a great War Boy (one of Joe’s bald minions) and Wraith could be a perfect Furiosa. Right now Apex just wrapped up the annual Winter Express limited-time event, but there are sure to be a number of new events coming in 2022. We don’t know if any crossover events are in the works just yet. But as Apex only seems to be getting more and more popular, we could very well see some kind of event related to an outside IP happen.

  • Apex Legends players want level 500 cap replaced with beloved Titanfall 2 feature – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want level 500 cap replaced with beloved Titanfall 2 feature Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players want the current level 500 cap removed and replaced with Titanfall 2’s beloved regeneration feature. Apex Legends has been out since 2019 and players have been grinding the game for quite some time. Most people who have been playing the game every day have reached the game’s max level of 500 but can’t continue to earn extra rewards. While players continue to earn wasted XP, the community has suggested adding a system that works similar to another Respawn Entertainment game, Titanfall 2. Apex Legends players want level cap replaced with Titanfall feature In Apex Legends, you earn certain rewards for leveling up. You earn Apex Packs and Legend Tokens that can be spent on new characters and cosmetics. Despite this a Redditor, ‘CastAway4367’ has proposed that Respawn Entertainment implement a regeneration system that can allow players to still have things to grind for after reaching level 500. This would mirror a system in Respawn’s Titanfall 2, as in that game players who reach the level cap then have 10 prestige levels, known as Regeneration, to complete. The prestige system resets their level but allows them to earn experience at a faster rate and get exclusive rewards. If put into Apex Legends, this would allow players to reset to level 1 but they now would be able to earn more Apex Packs and Legend Tokens to spend in the store. Another user suggested Respawn could even profit off of this system “I’d pay $30 per gen if it meant more apex packs could be unlocked. I enjoy playing the game and wouldn’t mind supporting it. Should be like 60 or more packs per gen though,” the Redditor said. While it is unknown if a prestige system will be added in Season 11 or the future, it is something Respawn has done in their other games and could possibly be simple to add to Apex Legends.

  • Apex Legends players want key change made to Finisher moves – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want key change made to Finisher moves Respawn EntertainmentWhile Finisher moves are a unique and awesome aspect of Apex Legends, many players want there to be a key change made to how they work in-game. Finishers are unique animations that Legends can perform to fully eliminate downed enemy players in an execution-style manner. Each Legend has its own unique set of Finisher moves that they can perform, often including an animation that involves one of their abilities in some way. Major issue with Finishers While most players do find Finishers exciting, one frustrating issue is that the button to trigger a Finisher move to be performed is the same one for interacting with the environment. This ends up causing players to accidentally start doing a Finisher on a downed enemy when they were simply pressing the button to trying to open a crate, get through a door, or reviving a teammate that’s downed in the same area. The reason this is an issue is because Finishers take several seconds to fully complete the animation, which was done intentionally to add an element of risk when doing them. As a result, players sometimes find themselves stuck waiting for the animation to be completed, which often leads to nearby enemy players shooting at and downing them midway through the Finisher. Here you can see pro player Dizzy accidentally start doing a Finisher midway through a gunfight against a whole squad, although thanks to some questionable shots from the enemy player, he was able to survive his mistake. How this can be fixed Obviously, this is predominantly an issue for those using a controller, as players on keyboard and mouse have the luxury of being able to use a lot more keybindings. One user on Reddit suggested that the Finisher move should be assigned to a button that’s less often used than the one for ‘interact,’ which is arguably the most used button in Apex Legends. Another user proposed that the Finisher be only activated when you’re looking directly at the downed enemy player, which would eliminate a lot of accidental occurrences. Either way, something should be done about the Finisher button assignment, because there’s nothing more frustrating than being eliminated because you accidentally triggered the animation when trying to simply revive a teammate.

  • Apex Legends players want helpful feature added to all Ultimates – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want helpful feature added to all Ultimates There’s a lot to love about Apex Legends as it is but there’s always room for improvement and many players think a change to the Ultimate abilities would greatly improve the game. Apex Legends is able to stand apart from other battle royale games on the market by having different characters with totally different abilities. This also means each character has their own distinct Ultimate ability that can help turn the tide of the battle. Since Apex Legends launched in February, the way Ultimates work has been largely unchanged, but some players have thought of ways to improve them and it’s actually by taking a page out of Overwatch’s book. Players want a way to signal to the rest of your team that your Ultimate is ready, which is useful if you’re playing with a squad that doesn’t have a mic. Reddit user HAZRD1 suggests the characters have an audio cue that signifies when their Ultimate is ready, but it doesn’t even have to be that much. A simple way to check when your teammate’s Ultimate is charged would make a major difference. Think about how it works in Overwatch where you can easily check your team’s status and then implement that into Apex Legends. With Apex Legends being one of the more friendly games for those without mics, it would make a lot of sense for the developers to add in a system like this. It’s hard to imagine there being many downsides to the implementation and the community would welcome it with open arms. Now the only question that remains is if Respawn would be open to adding it. They have definitely taken player feedback before about new features and added things into the game, so it wouldn’t be surprising if it was eventually added. A good way to stay on top of things would be to keep an eye on the Apex Legends Trello board. That is where you’ll see everything that is planned on being added eventually so check that whenever you’re interested in future updates. For the time being, we should keep our fingers crossed regarding this potential Ultimates change.

  • Apex Legends players want to help country of Mozambique after cyclone – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want to help country of Mozambique after cyclone Respawn EntertainmentThe Mozambique has become Apex Legends’ biggest meme since release, and now the game’s players want to help residents of the actual nation of Mozambique after a massive cyclone caused widespread destruction in the country. Shortly after release, players seemed to collectively agree that the Mozambique shotgun was one of, if not the worst weapon in Apex Legends. Since then, the Mozambique has become one of the game’s biggest memes, even inspiring it’s own rap song; now, Apex Legends players want to help the nation the weapon was named after. Cyclone Idai made landfall in the East African nation of Mozambique on March 14 and battered the city of Beira and the surrounding area with winds up to 177 km/h (107 mph), causing extensive damage and a death toll that has steadily risen above 200 at the time of writing. “Many villages have been washed away,” a rescuer in Mozambique told the BBC. “We found women and children holding on to trees. We are doing what we can.” Shortly after news of the cyclone broke, one Apex fan named SaunaTimeMachine made a post suggesting the game’s developers to offer some kind of custom Mozambique skin to raise money for victims of the disaster. In just a day, the post has gained over 20,000 upvotes and inspired plenty of other suggestions from fans on how to raise money, like donating $0.25 for every kill made in Apex with a Mozambique. Suggestions for what the Mozambique skin could look like ranged from all white with a red cross, to the colors of Mozambique’s flag – green, black, yellow and red. Of course, many users pointed out there was nothing stopping players from donating to relief efforts right now, through organizations like the Red Cross, Care, Mission Mozambique, and Iris. Other users suggested that since the recently-released Season One Battle Pass costs 950 coins, Respawn could offer players a way to donate their leftover coins to help the relief effort in some way, since a lot of players will buy the 1000 coin pack for the battle pass. Even if the Apex developers don’t offer any official ways for players to help out cyclone victims in Mozambique, it’s clear the player base is more than willing to help out on their own.

  • Apex Legends players want harsher punishments for “throwing” Ranked games – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want harsher punishments for “throwing” Ranked games Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling for harsher punishments against those who deliberately throw Ranked matches and ruin the experience for their teammates. When it comes to improving the overall gameplay experience for the Apex Legends community, a lot of the focus is placed on removing cheaters using third-party software that has an unfair advantage. This has become a major problem for Respawn over the last year, with countless hackers and DDoSers appearing at the top echelon of Ranked. While the devs have revealed that anti-cheat changes are in the works, a lot of the community is concerned that not enough is being done to prevent players from deliberately “throwing games on purpose”. As this doesn’t involve any banned software, it’s easy for these players to go under the radar, and ruin the experience for their squad. Apex players want throwing Ranked games to be “bannable” Taking to the Apex Legends subreddit, user cidqueen showcased a teammate in their squad deliberately “throwing” two Ranked matches in a row after they were placed together twice. Instead of diving down towards a POI on Worlds Edge, the player decided to fly off the map, forcing them to detach or be eliminated immediately. While it’s possible to fly back into the map and still compete in the match, with one less player and every other team in the game already geared up, it significantly decreases your chance of gaining RP. cidqueen asked members of the subreddit whether this behavior was “bannable” and wondered what could be done to prevent this from happening more in Ranked. In response, countless users revealed that you can report players like this for sabotaging a match, but it’s hard to know how much of an impact this has or whether they actually get banned. A lot of the community wants to see harsher punishments, and potentially even a way to avoid these players in the future: “We need an option to ‘ban’ certain players so they will not be on your team anymore”. While a lot of players have simply labeled this behavior trolling, others are convinced they’re trying to “derank” to get into lower-level lobbies. Either way, it’s definitely an issue that’s frustrating the playerbase, so we’ll have to see if Respawn any action in the future.

  • Apex Legends players want harsher punishment for cheating “macros” – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want harsher punishment for cheating “macros” Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are growing increasingly frustrated with the popularity of “macros” and want Respawn to take a harsher stance against the “cheaters” using them. As with any FPS, competition is at the heart of Apex Legends and every player dives down into the Outlands looking to secure a victory with their squad. While certain members of the community will put in countless hours to hone their gunskills and mechanics, others prefer to take shortcuts. Although this can come in the form of wallhacks or an aimbot, there are also macros, scripts, and configuration files that are incredibly difficult for Respawn to detect. Well, Apex players are growing increasingly frustrated with the “normalization” of macros and have declared that any changes outside of the game that provides an unfair advantage should be labeled as cheating. Apex Legends players claim “macros” are cheating Unlike third-party software, macros are often deemed unfair by FPS players but are rarely viewed in the same light as aimbots or wallhacks. Despite this, Apex players have taken to the game’s subreddit to voice their frustration about the “normalization” of macros and cfg files. While they may not be as overpowered as hacks, the ability to input multiple keys at the same time gives these “cheaters” access to improved movement and weapon accuracy. “Anyone playing apex using macros, cfg files, scripts, zen, etc: you are a shameless cheater,” wrote one Reddit user. “If you’re not playing vanilla it’s pretty cowardly IMO.” The primary use of these macros is to perform movement mechanics that are usually incredibly difficult to execute. Techniques like superglides, wall bouncing, and tap-strafing can be performed easily, while a normal player would have to input multiple keys with perfect timing. “If you can execute a move with one click, but me – a fair player needs to perform multiple actions to match your ONE Click << this is called unfair and cheating no matter what you say.” While players want Respawn to take a harsher stance on these macros, they’re extremely difficult to identify compared to third-party software. However, with TikTok and Reddit posts showing off their capabilities on a regular basis, it’s no wonder they’re becoming more and more popular.

  • Apex Legends players want Halo Infinite’s Battle Pass system – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want Halo Infinite’s Battle Pass system 343 Industries / Respawn EntertainmentHalo Infinite’s unique Battle Pass system has proven popular with FPS fans and now Apex Legends players are calling for similar changes. Battle Pass systems aren’t exactly anything new – in fact, most free-to-play and even paid multiplayer games feature them. While most Battle Passes only give players a limited amount of time to unlock various cosmetics, Halo Infinite has changed the game completely. Not only will the Battle Pass never expire, but players can also select which Pass to progress towards even when new ones are released. There’s no denying just how positive the reaction has been towards this feature, particularly from those who may not have the time to grind each Pass. Missing out on a cosmetic you want due to time restrictions certainly feels bad, so it’s hoped that this new feature will help alleviate the current issues. However, many Apex Legends fans are now hoping Respawn will take note from 343 Industries and implement a similar system to their Battle Royale title in the future. Apex Legends players call for Battle Pass changes As of writing, there is currently no way to earn previous Battle Pass cosmetics in Apex Legends. This means if you weren’t playing during a particular season, the chances of you getting that cool Legends skin or weapon cosmetic are very slim. However, for those playing Halo Infinite, this won’t be a problem. The Battle Pass will never go away, which means players can level it up and earn various seasonal cosmetics at their own leisure. “It would be a brilliant idea to have a menu tab in the lobby that allows us to look back on all the battle passes in Apex and purchase any that we missed,” says Raxus001. “That way we can have the chance to get the goodies that newer players (or players that took a break) have missed out on.” Many players noted that Respawn would still receive the money used to purchase new and older Battle Passes, making it profitable for both the fans and developers. It’s also a shame that certain cosmetics are locked behind certain seasonal content, with many Apex players wishing to show off the game’s skins. “There’s so much amazing content that newer players will never be able to buy and earn. This would be amazing, says LimeGreen17. It certainly seems that Apex fans are on board for this change, but whether Respawn will make any adjustments to its Battle Pass system remains to be seen. For now, though, you’ll just have to grind away if you wish to get all the latest in-game items.

  • Apex Legends players want Fortnite inspired feature to rescue downed teammates – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want Fortnite inspired feature to rescue downed teammates Respawn / Epic GamesApex Legends players are calling on Respawn to add a Fortnite feature to their battle royale, which would enable players to pick up downed teammates and haul them to safety. Since Fortnite injected new life into the battle royale genre back in 2017, plenty has been shared between some of the biggest BRs in the world. We’ve seen Epic Games’ title take a leaf out of Apex’s book by implementing reboot cards, and now Apex players are calling for Respawn to add a pretty unique Fortnite feature. The feature requested relates to downed teammates, specifically being able to pick them up and haul them to safety. Since the first season of Chapter 2, players have been able to throw downed teammates over their shoulders and carry them to quieter locations to revive them. Redditor ‘fortniteplayergg‘ suggested the feature be added to Apex Legends, even sketching how they envisage the different legends would carry their teammates away from the firefights. Revenant and Caustic, rather hilariously, were sketched as dragging their downed comrade by the ankle. Most either sat their teammates on their equipment, piggy-backed them or threw them over the shoulder firefighter-style. Gibraltar though, the gentle giant, was cradling his teammate like a newborn child. The post amassed over 13,000 upvotes, suggesting it would be an incredibly popular addition, as well as showing the appreciation for the OP’s sketches. At the moment in Apex Legends, players who are downed are pretty much at the mercy of the enemies around them, with Knockdown Shields their best bet of staying up until their teammates can reach them. Whether Respawn intend to add such a feature is unclear, but it would definitely shake up how gunfights are carried out.

  • Apex Legends players want Fortnite feature to get into games faster – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want Fortnite feature to get into games faster Respawn / Epic GamesApex Legends players have called for Respawn Entertainment to take a leaf out of Epic Games’ book and take a simple lobby feature from Fortnite Battle Royale. With Season 14 just around the corner for the Apex Legends community, fans have been suggesting lots of changes they would like to see in the next major update, which rolls out on August 9. While the patch notes list a boatload of new content coming in the 14th chapter of Respawn’s battle royale title, there’s still a wealth of ideas coming from players. One thing they would like to see come over from Fortnite, for example, is a feature to help the speed between games. Apex Legends want Fortnite feature in future update On August 2, Reddit user okeybudbud suggested that Respawn look at the options available in other BR games for inspiration. They said: “Why doesn’t Apex Legends have this?” along with a photo of Fortnite gameplay. The screen shows multiple options, including ‘Stay With Team’ – meaning if everybody in your lobby presses A/X, they will all auto-fill spots in the next game after the current session has ended. Another advantage this has is that you can opt-in for another game with randoms you met online very easily. In Apex Legends, this is not an option available to players, meaning after every win or loss they are required to back out to the lobby screen and start over. A flood of comments followed the post, which received over 2,200 upvotes. One person said: “You can invite people [in Apex ] you previously played with to your lobby. That’s only if they have the option enabled on their account.” This method is slower, though. Another joked: “Be happy if it even loads you in with a teammate.” Whether or not this simple change will ever be implemented in Apex Legends remains to be seen, but some will be crossing their fingers for the Season 14 update.

  • Apex Legends players want Firing Range update after seeing Mobile changes – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want Firing Range update after seeing Mobile changes Respawn EntertainmentJust a few hours after release, players have already found a feature in Apex Legends Mobile that they hope makes it into the main game. Apex Legends Mobile is, as the name implies, the mobile version of the popular Battle Royale. Besides introducing a brand-new Legend to the roster, it also has other features players are already loving. Over the years Apex fans have asked for Respawn devs to add a variety of features. While Apex Mobile doesn’t necessarily reinvent the wheel, it does add at least one feature players have wanted to see for a while. Apex Legends Mobile adds highly-requested “simple” feature It didn’t take long at all for players to notice that Apex Mobile allows you to try out every legend in the Firing Range, whether you’ve unlocked them or not. While it might seem like a simple, minor feature, it’s actually something players have been asking for in the main game for years. A lot of players might have every legend unlocked, but for those more casual who don’t, being able to try their abilities out before you spend points to unlock them is a huge quality-of-life improvement. Plenty of players pointed out that Apex Mobile is actually made by an entirely different company, not Respawn. But that doesn’t mean that features in this new version can’t eventually find their way to the main game. If you want to try out all the new features in Apex Mobile, the good news is that it’s completely free to download and start playing. Technically it is a completely separate game than console and PC Apex, but if you’re a fan and want to see some new features, it could be worth giving a shot.

  • Apex Legends players want devs to make even more “wacky” LTMs after Three Strike – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want devs to make even more “wacky” LTMs after Three Strike Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling for the Respawn devs to make more “wacky” LTMs after Three Strike mode. Since Apex Legend’s release, we’ve seen many limited-time modes come and go, offering another way to play the game instead of the standard battle royale mode. Apex’s recent Post Malone crossover event in early November came with the addition of the Three Strikes LTM, where players get three strikes before they’re eliminated for good — which many claim has “brought back joy” to the game. The Three Strikes LTM is loved so much by players that the devs even brought it back for a short period, and now the community wants Respawn to make more “wacky” game modes. Apex Legends fans want more “wacky” game modes In a recent November 26 Reddit thread, one Apex Legends player called on the devs to make more “wacky” game modes, explaining it helps casuals. “Three Strikes provided unique experience, not only it’s more casual but it was more about fun,” they wrote. “Three Strikes shouldn’t be the only wacky mode to be made, death goes boom? Low gravity? I don’t know but dumb modes like this really helps the casual part of the community.” In the replies, the community agreed that they’d love to see more LTM modes aimed towards the casual player base. “Yes absolutely! I consider myself a casual player and loved just the dumb fun that was three strikes. Would love to see more silly modes like this,” said one. Some gave suggestions to the devs, such as a game mode where the zone instantly eliminates players or an LTM where every player is the same Legend. “I want one where the zone insta kills and is always moving in,” a player suggested. “I want a mode where every player on the team has to be the same legend,” wrote another. “The selection would be a vote type thing.” Other ideas were a bit more bizarre, with one player suggesting a ‘Angry Birds’ mode, where you launch from a gravity cannon and try to knock down as many Rampart walls as possible. “I think they should do an Angry Birds mode. You launch your team mates from a gravity cannon and try to knock over as many Rampart walls as possible,” they said. The community has long demanded for the devs to release more limited-time modes. However, it remains to be seen whether or not we’ll see them make more.

  • Apex Legends players want devs to copy Overwatch 2 for new LTM – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want devs to copy Overwatch 2 for new LTM Electronic ArtsApex Legends players want the Respawn devs to take inspiration from Overwatch 2’s Push mode for a new LTM. Apex Legends fans have long asked for new Limited Time Modes (LTMs) to be released. In the past, Respawn has used LTMs to test new features before releasing them into the main battle royale mode, and players have pitched numerous ideas to the devs which they think would be great additions to the game. While Season 16 has brought a rotation of Team Deathmatch, Control, and Gun Run, the community still wants more, with one fan suggesting the devs copy Overwatch 2 for the next LTM. Apex Legends fan wants devs to copy Overwatch 2 ‘Push’ mode In a March 17 Reddit thread, Apex fan ‘wing6781’ suggested the devs take a page out of Overwatch’s book and make an LTM similar to the shooter’s “Push” mode. “How about an LTM similar to Overwatch 2 ‘Push’ mode but with an Apex twist on it. Instead of pushing a robot, we push and protect a ‘Giant Nessie,’” they wrote. “It would be a Fun and Humorous mode. Maybe Wattson could also have some special lines/interactions with Nessie and her teammates in this mode.” One user noted how the mode would likely be a “hold W simulator,” but it could be fun if the Respawn devs can find a way around making it not the case. “Push in OW is 80% running back to the payload. It’s literally a ‘hold W’ simulator. If Apex can make that not the case, sure sounds fun.” “Push is a blast, and I think it would be a great addition to the Apex mixtape,” said another. “But I don’t think it would work very well on existing maps. “Would love to see what Respawn could cook up for new maps- some of the OG Titanfall map design with the big, titan-size lanes and smaller corridors for infantry felt so good to move through,” they added. However, others weren’t on board with the idea, with many noting how Push is one of the most hated modes in Overwatch. With Season 17 expected to launch sometime in early to mid-May, we could see some new LTMs around that time. Although we’ll just have to wait and see.

  • Apex Legends players want Control to be permanent but have changes in mind – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want Control to be permanent but have changes in mind Respawn/EAApex Legends players are calling for the new popular Control LTM that was introduced in Season 12 to become a permanent part of the game alongside Arenas, though, they also want changes. After being deprived of a new limited-time mode for a few seaons, Apex Legends players were gifted with a new mode to play with the release of Season 12. However, despite the overwhelming popularity and positive feedback that the Respawn devs have received, the new Control game mode will be out of the rotation before long. Though, players are pleading for the devs to keep the popular 9v9 Control mode as a permanent option, with a few tweaks. In a Reddit thread on February 12, Apex Legends fans Shadow_Kitsune74 asked other players if they’d prefer to keep Arenas in the game or swap it out for the new Control mode. Many players agreed that both modes are good in their own ways, and they should both stay as permanent options in Apex. “Keep both! Both bring different styles and objectives to the game,” noted one player. “Something for everyone.” Though, many stated that Control would need to undergo some tweaks if it was to be a full-time addition. “I like Control but it would need some rework, since controlling B is like an instant win,” said one. “Control currently doesn’t feel optimized. The matchmaking feels hit or miss, controlling B is basically the whole game right now, there is no minimap, and something should be done about all the visual clutter,” added another. While an Apex Legends dev has confirmed that Control will be returning later in Season 12, players roughly have until around March 1 before the popular LTM is removed. So, it’s best to get the most out of it before it’s gone. Though, if players get their way, it’ll stick around for good.

  • Apex Legends players want “combat medic” buff to make Lifeline relevant again – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want “combat medic” buff to make Lifeline relevant again Respawn EntertainmentLifeline is one of Apex Legends’ most iconic characters but some fans think she’s underwhelming compared to the competition. This “Combat Medic” themed buff could be just the thing to get her back into players’ hands and hearts. Pick rates might not tell a Legend’s whole story, but they’re a useful tool for understanding how a character is trending in the eyes of the population. For Lifeline, she maintains a middle-of-the-pack rate in Season 12, but given that she’s one of the game’s only true healers, there’s a contingent of fans who believe she should be standing with Wraith at the top of the boards. In order to make that happen, one fan has dreamed up a small buff that could make a huge impact. Apex Legends players call for Combat Medic buff for Lifeline Ajay Che’s abilities should be familiar to anyone who has played Apex. Her Tactical is a healing drone that will juice up any teammates that stand next to it, her Ultimate calls down a Care Package containing rare goodies, and she can also deploy the drone to pick up knocked teammates when they go down. These are all strong boosts on their own, but they limit the character’s effectiveness out of combat. This fan-designed buff would see her become a little more useful by carrying double the healing items, similar to how the pyromaniac Fuse can carry extra grenades in his inventory. A change like this would mean that other squadmates could focus on holding onto the utility items since Lifeline could vacuum up the heals behind them. Not only would that give the team more offensive options overall, but being able to rely on the extra heals would mean squads could push with more confidence into chaotic fights. While it might not be a perfect fix, support like this would play nicely with Legends like Octane, Valkyrie, Wraith, and Pathfinder, all of whom are in the Top 5 most popular choices right now. There’s no telling what direction Respawn will take the character in when a buff does eventually come but it’s clear that the fans are ready for some changes.

  • Apex Legends players want clever hop-up to buff Mastiff power – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want clever hop-up to buff Mastiff power A number of Apex Legends players want to see a new hop-up for the Mastiff shotgun added that could make the weapon a bit more versatile. Each new season of Apex Legends brings changes to the balance and performance of different weapon classes, with a handful of guns receiving new hop-ups and buffs to set them apart. In Season 12, Respawn introduced the Peacekeeper’s Kinetic Feeder hop-up, which gave the shotgun a faster and more dynamic feel compared to the Mastiff or EVA-8. However, the Peacekeeper versus Mastiff debate is one that players are still split on, even after 12 full seasons of competitive play. Now, with Season 13 launching on May 10, some players have proposed a compelling new hop-up idea that could power up the Mastiff in an interesting way. The suggestion comes by way of the Apex Legends subreddit where one user suggested the Mastiff could benefit from a hop-up to change its traditional horizontal shot to a vertical one. This hypothetical hop-up “would probably increase spread at close range, but allow for very tight medium-long range shots,” according to the post. It’s certainly an interesting idea, which could conceivably end up giving the Mastiff the edge in its rivalry with the Peacekeeper. Generally, players who would like to deal more damage at the risk of more reliance on precision aiming gravitate towards the Peacekeeper, while those looking for more overall consistency opt for the Mastiff. Adding a toggle option between the Mastiff’s traditional horizontal shots and a new vertical spread could be very beneficial. The toggled option could even function similarly to the Peacekeeper’s automatic choke. However, if a hop-up like this ever made its way into Apex Legends, devs would have to make sure any additional range wouldn’t end up being too over the top for the traditionally close-range weapon. While there’s still a bit of time for Respawn to surprise players with new additions to Apex Legends before Season 13 launches, players will just just have to wait and see as Season 13’s launch date gets closer and closer.

  • Apex Legends players want classic Call of Duty mode that is ideal for Arenas maps – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want classic Call of Duty mode that is ideal for Arenas maps Activision / RespawnApex Legends players have called on Respawn to add a classic Call of Duty game mode to the battle royale – suggesting that it would translate well to the game’s Arenas maps. Despite the obvious affection Apex Legends players have for their game, they have been known from time to time to request features that competing titles have implemented so successfully. In the past, they have called for features from Fortnite or Warzone, but recent posts in the game’s subreddit have seen them calling for a mode that has become classic in the Call of Duty series: Gun Game. Originating in Black Ops, the mode sees players work their way through 20 guns, with each elimination progressing them from one gun to the next. The free-for-all is won by the first player to get a kill with every weapon. Other rules, like being killed by a melee, see players demoted a weapon. The idea was floated by u/christuhfurr, who suggested Apex Legends’ Arenas maps would make the perfect environment for such a game mode. They also outlined the possible order of weapons, starting with a P2020 and ending with Mozambique shotgun. The post was generally well received by other players, many of whom suggested they want to see something akin to Gun Game in Apex. Discussions surrounded how the game’s legends would fit into the mode, with some suggesting that Valkyrie would be overpowered given her aerial capabilities. While typical multiplayer modes are far from the norm for Apex Legends, Respawn have demonstrated a willingness to broaden the type of game modes available in Apex Legends. Recent leaks and rumors have pointed to a Domination-type LTM that could come in a future season, which would see players trying to capture points in a team-based game mode. As ever, nothing if official until confirmed by Respawn.

  • Apex Legends players want China to be region locked to avoid cheats and hackers – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want China to be region locked to avoid cheats and hackers Chinese Apex Legends players could soon face being region locked on separate servers, if some vocal fans get their wishes – and even some Chinese players want it too. The calls for China to be excluded into its own region, and not part of the main Asian servers, arise from both the problem of cheaters and hackers in Apex Legends, as well as lessons learned from other games like PUBG. PUBG Corp. eventually gave into demand and placed a region lock on China, but it took a lot of complaining from players about the high number of cheats for action to be taken. Developers are understandably reluctant to introduce region locks, concerned with accusations of favoritism, or even racism, as well as making queue times longer in impacted regions. The delay in doing a region lock for PUBG may have led to some players putting down the game forever, as they couldn’t escape the plague of hackers, and Apex Legends fans are worried about this repeating with the newest trending game in battle royale. Making matters complicated, Apex Legends isn’t even officially available in China yet, which means Respawn/EA can’t even take legal action against cheats from the country, according to a concept artist at Respawn. Cheats for Apex Legends can be purchased very easily in China, for as little as $1, with more advanced hacks casting up to around $450, according to Abacus. But, not everyone in China is a cheat, and some are even embarrassed of the reputation they have. On Chinese social platform WeChat, numerous posts supported region lock: “As a Chinese, I could only say I can’t object to being [region] locked. We deserve such punishment. Or maybe they should charge us rather than making it free-to-play.” Some fans think it might already be too late for the Asian region though, pointing out that Asian Twitch streamers have already grown tired of playing Apex because of all the cheaters, and Twitch viewership is suffering as a result. Other players in the Asian region are manually selecting foreign servers, and just putting up with the high-latency, rather than have to face cheaters so frequently.

  • Apex Legends players already want changes to Season 13 weapon pool – Dexerto

Apex Legends players already want changes to Season 13 weapon pool RespawnApex Legends players are calling for developer Respawn to change the Season 13 weapon pool, claiming the game would be “more fun” with fan-favorite weapons back as ground loot. Season 13 of Apex Legends began on May 10 and broke player count records once again by bringing in a staggering 412,556 players at launch. However, despite people flocking back to Apex Legends to try out the new season, some are already calling for changes to be made to improve the overall experience. Specifically, many gamers are asking Respawn to adjust the current weapon pool by bringing the Volt SMG and G7 Scout out of Care Packages and back into the ground loot pool. Apex Legends players call for weapon pool adjustments In a post to the Apex Legends subreddit by user KananStarks,’ they claim the pool of both light and energy weapons is held back by the Volt and G7’s absence. With over 1.3K upvotes and 425 comments in just 12 hours, plenty of users seem to agree with the sentiment, with many echoing their concern over the current balance of the weapon pool. Plenty of players seem to find the energy pool lacking at the moment due to the rarity of the Turbocharger hop-up, the L-Star nerf, and the Triple-Take’s dip in usefulness. Additionally, many commenters have reported seeing a lack of energy ammo in both the ground loot pool as well as on player death boxes. Of course, there are still those who aren’t as bothered by the current weapon pool. Some fans of the energy weapon class are happy others aren’t using them more frequently as they don’t have to worry about those weapons being used against them. Early Season 13 sentiments still consider the Devotion LMG and the Havoc AR to be strong weapons when paired with the Turbocharger, but the supposed current lack of energy ammo makes the guns harder to rely on. Whether Respawn takes this player feedback to heart remains to be seen, as there are no doubt plenty of changes in store as Season 13 continues.

  • Apex Legends players want change for “broken” Caustic ability – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want change for “broken” Caustic ability Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans want Respawn to make a slight tweak to Caustic’s “broken passive” as they are still want to be able to see enemies in the gas a bit more clearly. While he’s gone through a handful of buffs and nerfs since Apex Legends launched over two years ago, Caustic has remained a top-tier choice for players dropping into the Apex Games. The Toxic Trapper is the perfect foil for a number of different playstyles, as he can easily slow down a push from aggressive players as well as smoking out enemies who try to camp. That’s thanks to his gas abilities and passive that allows him to see through said gas. However, players want him to receive a slight buff on that front. Apex Legends player AcidRegulation highlighted the fact that Caustic’s passive is ever so slightly “broken” because enemies still don’t appear too clear through the gas. Like many, they want Respawn to either clean up the gas for Caustic – so they can see through it more easily – or have the enemies highlighted in a different color than one that blends in with the gas.

  • Apex Legends players want Caustic changes to counter more enemies – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want Caustic changes to counter more enemies Respawn/EAApex Legends players have been left unsure as to why Caustic’s gas doesn’t affect all of his enemy’s abilities and would like a change to rectify that. Caustic has long been a popular choice in Apex Legends. His kit has always been strong and he’s a difficult character to counter, and he has a large crop who continue to main him. However, in recent weeks, some players have become frustrated by the Toxic Trapper seeing as it can be difficult to see through his gas and because it doesn’t deal damage to downed players in the same way as it does others. As a result, fans have called on Respawn to make a few slight changes, but now, they want a bit of a bigger overhaul to fit the strength of his gas from his backstory. In Caustic’s lore, his toxic gas is supposed to melt pretty much everything in its path. In reality, it doesn’t quite do that and it only affects a handful of enemy abilities in-game. As pointed out by Redditor Savings-Breath-1280, the gas only affects four abilities – Crypto, Wattson, and Rampart’s tactical as well as Loba’s Black Market Boutique ultimate – when they believe it should affect them all. “There is no logic behind Caustic’s Gas damage,” they complained. “Either all or no Gadget should take Gas Damage #changeMyMind.” Others quickly agreed with the stance too. “It is like air acid, so logically like yeah, everything should burn and melt,” said one. “If this isn’t a top priority for Respawn, then they’re clueless,” added another. Some players suggested that the gas actually damages more abilities than the Apex player pointed out, but it seems to be a case-by-case basis where some players see different things. Of course, Caustic can’t be the ultimate counter for every legend – he’d simply be too strong then – but it’s clear players want some sort of change. So, we’ll have to wait and see.

  • Apex Legends players want buffs for “underwhelming” Ash in Season 16 – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want buffs for “underwhelming” Ash in Season 16 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have called for Ash to receive buffs as they believe she’s “underwhelming” in Season 16. Arriving all the way back in Season 11, Ash has been a fan-favorite character since her release thanks to her Titanfall 2 roots. Despite this, she’s never taken over the meta as an extremely popular Legend and has always sat in the middle of the pack in terms of overall pick rate. The Incisive Instigator has an aggressive kit that revolves around tracking down enemies and using her powerful Ultimate to close the distance on their position. However, Apex players are convinced that she’s “underwhelming” in Season 16, and needs a buff. Apex Legends players call for Ash Tactical & Ultimate buff Apex Legends players on the game’s subreddit are calling for Ash to receive buffs in an upcoming patch as they believe she’s “underwhelming” in the current meta. For a lot of Ash players, she’s not incredibly weak but she certainly needs “some love” from the developers. These changes would ideally be small buffs to her Ultimate and Tactical. “I would like to see them increase her Ult range by maybe 25… also increase the speed of her tactical by 25%, nothing major, but just enough to increase her skills without feeling overpowered”. It’s clear the community just feels as if Ash is slightly behind the curve in power when compared to Legends like Wraith, Octane, and Pathfinder. Despite this, the Incisive Instigator’s pick rate has skyrocketed over 60% since the Season 16 update to 5.1% from 2.9%. This dramatic increase in popularity makes her the seventh most-picked Legend in the Outlands. These stats may decrease the likelihood of any Ash buffs in the near future, as Respawn usually avoids increasing the power of Legends who are on the rise.

  • Apex Legends players want boxing feature brought to Arenas – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want boxing feature brought to Arenas Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans are definitely enjoying the new Arenas mode, but an idea to spice up rounds with a little hand-to-hand combat is quickly gaining momentum. Season 9: Legacy of Apex Legends introduced Valkyrie, map updates, and the brand new 3v3 Arenas mode which plays like CSGO or Valorant with individual rounds, rather than the main battle royale. The team-based mode is definitely a popular way to break up round after round of dropping in, but one Reddit user’s idea to add a boxing feature similar to Pathfinder’s Town Takeover event is proving to be a very popular suggestion. If you remember back to Season 7, players had the option to duke it out during Pathfinder’s Town Takeover event. A special area made up as a boxing arena was set up with rollers inside dispensing high-tier loot. The only catch was any weapons or grenades weren’t allowed. It definitely proved to be a popular mode, so much so that Reddit user grzesiu447 suggested adding an option to have similar fights determine the outcome of an Arena round. “During the buying phase, you should be allowed to click a button to offer a fistfight, and if everyone agrees, abilities turn off, you cant buy guns, and middle of the arena turns into boxing ring in which only 1 person from each team can stay,” they wrote, obviously taking inspiration from Pathfinder’s Town Takeover. “After someone is defeated in a fight, you have to do a finisher, which restores your shield and health, and then another person can enter the ring,” they added. Based on a repost of their original comment getting over 15,000 upvotes at the time of writing, we’d say the player was onto a popular idea. While it’s definitely an interesting idea, giving players this amount of power over the game type could have unintended consequences, as some users pointed out in the comments: “This would just result in a bunch of people trying to get a punching match and then quitting. Apex players are their own worst enemies.” Based on how our usual Arenas matches seem to be going in Apex, we could definitely see this being an issue. So while the idea could be fantastic, it might be better off as an Arena LTM sometime in the future, rather than a permanent feature.

  • Apex Legends players want Bangalore Tactical buff from Mobile added to PC & console – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want Bangalore Tactical buff from Mobile added to PC & console Respawn EntertainmentAfter seeing Bangalore’s buffed Tactical ability in Apex Legends Mobile, PC and console players want the Professional Soldier’s ‘Smokescreen’ ability added to the main game. While Bangalore may not have the pick rate of Wraith, Octane, or Valkyrie in Apex Legends Season 13, she does have a dedicated set of mains who love her powerful kit. With the ability to confuse her enemies with smoke, cause major disruption with her Ultimate, and outmaneuver her opponents with the extra speed from her Passive, the Professional Soldier has plenty of tools at her disposal in the Outlands. However, a lot of the community thinks Bangalore needs a small buff to bring her into the meta. Well, although there have been countless concepts and ideas suggested, players think they’ve finally found the answer on Apex Mobile in the form of a perk. Apex players want Bangalore buff from Mobile One of the biggest challenges when coming up with a buff for Bangalore is ensuring that the changes do not make her too powerful as her 5% pick rate already puts her in the top 10 most popular Legends on the roster. Luckily, Apex YouTuber Bobz believes they’ve finally found the solution and it’s a concept taken from the Professional Soldier’s kit in Mobile. While downed in the alternate version of Apex, Bangalore can use her Tactical ability, allowing her to cause disruption and escape from danger by disappearing into her smokes. This would not only add an extra level of depth to Bangalore’s kit, but it would also force teams to focus her or risk losing vision in a gunfight. With X-ray scopes countering this ability and the potential to harm your teammates with smokes if used incorrectly, the ‘Smokescreen’ perk could be a balanced buff for Bangalore on PC and console. The one issue could come in the form of Gold Knockdown shields which would be extremely valuable to her as she could combine the revive with her smokes. However, with hints from the devs that changes are coming to Gold Knockdown shields in the future, that problem may be solved very soon.

  • Apex Legends players want another major Evo change to crafting – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want another major Evo change to crafting Respawn/EAApex Legends players have suggested another massive change that Respawn can make to crafting, this time focusing on backpacks and making them work like shields. When Respawn Entertainment introduced Replicators and the ability to craft items back in Season 6, many Apex Legends players were left concerned about how it would affect items and the way you loot to start a game. Despite those early concerns, crafting has become a pretty major part of the battle royale, and it’s hard to go a game without either making a new item or upgrading your Evo Shield by just a tick. The ability to upgrade shields does come at a cost, seeing as you’re vulnerable to damage while the Replicator is working its magic. Though, it is a risk players are willing to take and they also believe a similar system should be implemented to help with frustrations around finding backpacks. The idea to make backpacks upgradable in the Replicator was put out into the world by Redditor euSoccerGirl, who stated that it should work like upgrading shields by being a permanent, 50 material addition to the crafting wheel. This would mean that the daily and weekly rotations, which see purple backpacks enter the Replicator’s loot pool quite often, would have to be shaken up. Though, players wouldn’t mind that as they back the idea of their fellow fans. “Backpacks are infuriatingly hard to find for some goddamn reason,” said one. “Finding backpacks above level 2 is almost impossible. This is a great idea and it is one that should be implemented,” another agreed. Some players poured cold water on the idea, though, stating that an overreliance on crafting might be sneaking into Apex. Others believe that the idea would have an adverse effect on Loba and her Black Market Boutique ultimate. Such a big change would, naturally, require plenty of testing from Respawn, but who knows if they’d actually consider the switch up.

  • Apex Legends players want another healer Legend so much they’ve built one for Respawn – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want another healer Legend so much they’ve built one for Respawn Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are constantly thinking of new ways to integrated legends into the game. Players desperately want a new support character so they took the initiative and created their own. The game currently has 18 different characters that players can pick to create the best possible comp. While each legend brings something different to the table there are many that can do similar things. Out of the 18 that are in the game only Lifeline is based around supporting the team. With a new season on the horizon and plenty of opportunities to add a new character, the community has a perfect idea for a new healing legend. Apex Legends community develops support-focused legend While Lifeline is the only character that really supports a whole team, players are eager to have another one added to the game. In this Reddit post by ‘WithAOwlMask’ they propose a new legend that is specifically focused on healing and being a support for their team. The abilities for this support based character are listed below: Passive ability: Interact with already used respawn beacons to reactive them. Revive and respawn teammates 15% faster. – Tactical Ability: Aim at a teammate and pres Q to instantly give them 25 shield. Cost 1 Shield Cell to use. 6 second cooldown. – Ultimate Ability: 75% of the healing you receive for items is also given to your teammates for the next 20 seconds. Tactical cannot be used while the effect is active. – After seeing the abilities it is obvious that this would be more of a support than Lifeline currently is. This kit could be extremely useful, especially when getting third partied by another team. The community seemed to be on board with this idea. One person said, “This is actually one of the best new ability ideas I’ve seen in this sub.” While some think it may be a little overtuned it hits the main point for being a medic. While there have been hints of the names for the next Apex Legends characters their exact kits remain unknown. Even though it’s unlikely fans would love to see Respawn Entertainment take a community idea and make it playable in-game.

  • Apex Legends players want an old feature back to stop hackers – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want an old feature back to stop hackers Respawn Entertainment did away with the spectator indicator to crack down on spying. But now, their player base is rallying to see it return as a way to combat hackers. When it comes to demands from their fans, Respawn Entertainment has, more times than not, answered the call to improve Apex Legends. They have improved their game through each patch as they work tirelessly to create a cheat-free environment for their loyal player-base. But through these patches and attempts to crack down as much as possible, some features had to be sacrificed. Some players recently began reminiscing about how things used to be in Apex Legends pre-anti-cheat days and, as usual, took to Reddit to voice their feelings. One of the discussions involved a feature that made cheating incredibly easy–but fans may have found a solution to bring it back and, shockingly, stop hackers. A Faction of Apex Legend Players Want to See the Spectator Count Return There was a time when the in-game UI for Apex Legends boasted an eyeball to let you know how many players were watching you after you wrecked them. It was the best of times, but it also proved to be the worst of times. Cheaters suddenly met players with the dark side of a great, simple mechanic: Spying. Apex Legends players would use the feature to watch an enemy and then relay the message to their living teammate where exactly they were on the map. But, despite this reasoning, fans are clamoring for the return of their precious spectator mode. In a recent Reddit post, Apex Players were posed with a question: “Should they bring back the spectator’s indicator?” Garnering 3.1k likes and 330 comments, the post struck up an honest dialogue on how returning the feature to the game could help stop hackers. Suggestions on How Spectator Indicator Could Stop Hackers One user named ‘HandoAlegra’ suggested that Respawn Entertainment bring back the spectator’s indicator, but change the format to prevent cheaters from abusing it as spyware. “Maybe they should bring it back but set it to like… 4 people watching before it shows up for trios,” HandoAlegra stated in their Reddit comment. “And 3 for duos? Cheaters draw crowds.” Another user named Rampart, whom the original post belongs to, offered some more insight into the matter, elaborating on what HandoAlegra previously stated. “Come to think of it. It should always be visible to spectators,” said Rampart. “That way, if someone is suspicious, then a spectator will know they aren’t the only one.” Right now, it isn’t easy to know whether or not Respawn Entertainment will bring back the spectator indicator. But one thing is for sure – fans are hungry to see the return of a feature that has been absent for some time now.

  • Apex Legends players want Akimbo hop-up for underused pistol weapons – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want Akimbo hop-up for underused pistol weapons Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have suggested Respawn add an Akimbo hop-up to boost the power and popularity of the game’s underused pistols. When it comes to picking a weapon in Apex Legends, the majority of players will attempt to find an SMG, LMG, or AR as quickly as possible so they can compete at medium to long range. While Shotguns and Snipers are often used as secondaries, Pistols are regularly left to the wayside and only used during intense gunfights just after dropping into a map. As a result, a lot of players want these guns to see more play and become more popular. So, some of the community have suggested that Respawn add an Akimbo hop-up to push the P2020 and RE45 into the close-quarter meta. Should a Dual-Wield hop-up be added to Apex Legends? A thread posted by Apex player Student-of-spiderweb sparked a discussion over whether the addition of an Akimbo hop-up could boost the popularity of pistols as a whole. While a lot of players were confident the concept would bring pistols into the meta, some were concerned the hop-up may be too powerful, particularly for the Mozambique and Wingman. “I think maybe even just the P2020 as the RE and Wingman would definitely be OP… the beekie [Mozambique] I’m not sure either it could be too strong akimbo,” wrote one player. For others, the idea of an Akimbo hop-up wasn’t the best solution, instead suggesting that a future Legend should have a dual-wield ability as their Passive. Overall, it’s clear that a lot of players would love to see an Akimbo hop-up but are skeptical when it comes to balancing, particularly for high-damage pistols like the Wingman. Not only that, the implementation of Akimbo may interfere with certain in-game animations like Octane’s Stim, so it’s hard to know whether Respawn would ever change these actions to accommodate for dual-wield weapons. Either way, it’s definitely a potential solution for bringing pistols into the meta, but it’s hard to know whether the devs want to keep the P2020 and RE45 as temporary hot-drop guns.

  • Apex Legends players want a Warzone-style change to Tridents – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want a Warzone-style change to Tridents Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends’ Tridents are one of the fastest ways of traveling around Olympus, of getting, but this one QoF change could make them even better. Tridents were added to Apex Legends as part of the game’s Olympus update. Since then, players have been using them to quickly ferry their squadmates around the map. Not only are these futuristic vehicles incredibly fast, but they can also get your teammates out of a potentially hazardous situation. After all, evading the ring and zooming past enemy squads will certainly help with your overall survival. However, this isn’t always the case – in fact, some Apex Legends players have found that the Tridents can sometimes prove to be a death trap. This is particularly true when you happen to get into the wrong seat. Fortunately, a small Warzone-style change could make the Tridents a little more reliable. Apex Legends Trident change TheMaddKingg shared a video to the official Apex Legends Reddit page, showing just how finicky the Tridents can be. In the clip, the player can be seen hopping into a Trident to secure their teammate’s banner. Everything is going smoothly and there appear to be no issues, but things eventually take a turn for the worse. Upon arriving at the destination, TheMaddKingg quickly picks up the banner and begins to return to the Trident. Unfortunately, the player begins to take fire from an enemy squad. It’s here where TheMaddKinng can be seen desperately trying to cycle over to the driver’s seat. Instead of driving off and making a quick getaway, the player finds themselves being quickly eliminated. “If there’s no one driving the Trident, we should get into the driver’s seat automatically,” says TheMaddKinng. Other battle royale titles enable you to drive as soon as you enter a vehicle, which does instantly remove the frustrations that come with the clip above. “Same with Warzone, first one to get in drives, but 1 tap and you’re changing seats. I’d appreciate something like that,” says thoompinho. While simply aiming at the driver’s seat and selecting the seat you want may not be an issue in most cases, there are times where you need to quickly drive off without having to mess around. Whether Respawn will add the Warzone-style change to the game’s Tridents in a future update remains to be seen, but it is definitely one many players would like to see.

  • Apex Legends players want a ‘Game History’ feature for next season – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want a ‘Game History’ feature for next season Respawn EntertainmentA highly requested feature for Apex Legends Season 5 would give players the ability to analyze their performances with a Game History tool of previous matches played. Since Apex launched in early 2019, Respawn have slowly incorporated more stats-based features to their battle royale. Not only has this given players better metrics to improve upon or aim for, it’s also been a thrill for a community deeply ingrained in their number-crunching like which weapons kill the fastest and the like. However, comparing individual performances would get a huge quality of life improvement, if there were a way to have a series of previous state lines available to dissect. Working toward that, user ‘TheTyGoss’ created a mock-up of their Game History layout that would be located under a stats tab within the client. From this page, people would get a better overall sense of how they have been performing as well as get a decent breakdown for stats like time survived, damage dealt, and more. “I’d also love to see stats given more visibility in the game,” TheTyGoss said. “My mockup proposes we move stats to a new top level tab, with multiple screens underneath that section.” Looking at how numbers can pan out from Trios mode, to limited time modes such Battle Armor Evo, and even Ranked started to look appealing with a community who would like similar content in Apex. There is strong vocal support for more content that dives into the breakdown of matches, as players would like to see how their Legend performs in the Apex Games. “I can think of a laundry list of stat related UI stuff I’d love,” user ‘yummycrabz’ said. “One major one involves stats based on the phase of the round. In soccer/footie, you can see teams/players stats depending on if the action happened in the 10th-19th minutes, 20th-29th, etc.” Stats based on minutes only scratches the surface of the kind of number analytics the Apex community wants now that there isn’t much time before the start of Season 5. With the devs introducing a new character and a ton of features, Apex Legends Season 5 could indulge in fan service by finding a way to give people detailed ways to look at their performances.

  • Apex Legends players want a fix to Crypto’s infinite Drone EMP exploit – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want a fix to Crypto’s infinite Drone EMP exploit Respawn Entertainment[jwplayer cgdaanpd]An Apex Legends player came across a bizarre Crypto bug that let their Drone produce an “unlimited” amount of EMP blast, letting it make continuously sweeping rounds of charges. There’s been a few glitches with Crypto and his flying drone, like the ability to infinitely slide while calling up the device, but this one could have strong implications if someone were to come across it during their matches in the Apex Arena. Clipped by user ‘a_babyshark,’ the glitch shows the drone running rampant on the squad below it. After the player was affected by the initial discharge, they can be seen prepping a Shield Battery to make up for the lost protection. Midway through the progress bar, the static electricity that covers the frame of the screen signalling another EMP blast had appeared. As soon as they finished applying the Battery, the blast once again wiped out the full shield. These kinds of scenes typically tend to happen during a fight in the closing rounds when there are numerous Cryptos using their ults in the last stages of a match. But there was only one player to account for in the nearby vicinity, according to a_babyshark. But the clip shows the squad making use of the bug with Crypto perpetually softening up the opposing teams while the other two members clean up those affected by the charges. “It’s one Crypto using his EMP over and over again,” they said. “He was kill-feeding the Mirage and Pathfinder. In the video you see it go off multiple times from the same drone.” Some had suspicions that it was a savvy Crypto making use of the Charge Towers, but the player noted that that was highly unlikely, saying: “Impossible even if he was on a Charge Tower.” It’s unclear what could cause this kind of glitch or if it’s reproducible, but it would surely be a high priority for the Apex Legends devs to look at for a possible fix. Stay tuned to Dexerto for updates to see if Respawn Entertainment addresses the bug before more players looking to make use of it catch on.

  • Apex Legends players want a change to ‘blinding’ Evo Shields – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want a change to ‘blinding’ Evo Shields Respawn EntertainmentThe new Evo Shield in Apex Legends gives players a chance to get protection stronger than Epic Body Armor (Purple), but it comes with a glaring issue that people are starting to notice. The item can be leveled by damaging non-downed players, and will give off a “perpetual distinctive glow” that lets people identify them more easily. But in the first-person point-of-view, upgrading the shield gives a blinding effect. Evo shields require a certain amount of damage you need to inflict before leveling up the armor through its stages. Players become fully aware they’ve reached the final stage because of a bright glow that spans across the screen. While that’s a great indicator to tell the user that they have another bar of shield to play with, it could hinder a firefight like Reddit user ‘Xayzac’s gameplay clip shows. “If the devs want feedback on Evo Shields, let’s start with how unnecessary this flash is,” they said. Read more: Where to find Evo Shields in Apex Legends – After landing a long-distance shot with the Wingman to unlock the final red armor of the Evo Shield, the player’s screen was lit from corner to corner with colorful effects. Xayzac had to briefly stop their shots to wait out the effect since you could hardly make out what was on the other side. The light show reminded the Apex community of the problematic Muzzle Flash that’s been a part of the battle royale since launch, but only just patched with the System Override update on March 3. User ‘Dindeyy’ was baffled with the design decision that was reminiscent of the problem the devs had just fixed: “Reduce muzzle flash for visibility, add blinding flash effect.” Previously, muzzle flash problems made it difficult to see the other side of a gun while taking shots and effects from the Evo Shield could be equally distracting. “I actually died because of this stupid and, not to mention, unnecessary animation,” user ‘_Shivoham’ said. Respawn have been open about taking in community feedback for the Evo Shield in case they want to transition it over to the main Apex Legends playlists, and fixing the armor’s animation could be the first step.

  • Apex Legends players want 60 player cap increased on new Storm Point map – Dexerto

Apex Legends players want 60 player cap increased on new Storm Point map Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have labeled Storm Point “too damn big” for 60 players and want Respawn to increase the cap in an upcoming patch. Apex Legends Season 11 has finally arrived and although the community is excited to master the new Legend Ash, it’s the tropical Storm Point map that’s getting most of the attention. Filled with huge Gravity Cannons, ferocious wildlife, and more POIs than ever before, the devs certainly didn’t hold back when it came to designing and perfecting Storm Point. However, despite all of the positives, some players are struggling to find enemies to kill in their matches, claiming the map often feels baron and empty. A lot of players are attributing this to it being 15% bigger than World’s Edge, and are calling the devs to increase the 60 player cap. Apex Legends players want player count increased Storm Point When it comes to matches on Kings Canyon, World’s Edge, Olympus, and now Storm Point, the maximum amount of players are capped out at 60. Although the community has been satisfied with this player count up to this point, the Season 11 map has caused some to ask whether it should be increased. A thread even popped up on Reddit claiming that Storm Point is “too damn big” for 60 players and the cap needs to be raised so the action doesn’t die down too quickly. “It’s too big and there too many levels, If you don’t pick a hypermobile legend like path Valk or Horizon you play with a major handicap,” one frustrated player wrote. A lot of users agreed with the idea that Apex matches need to contain more players, but voiced their concerns that the servers might get even worse if that update went through. “Agreed this game in general needs bigger lobbies, but the servers would probably melt because they’re so bad,” another user wrote. It’s clear that the community is loving the new map’s landscape and environment, but players also want more action in each of the POIs. However, it’s likely the devs will be against making any changes, as increasing the player cap may introduce more third-party encounters and loot issues.

  • Apex Legends players vote which Legend should be buffed next – Dexerto

Apex Legends players vote which Legend should be buffed next Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans have revealed their votes for which characters they want to see buffed next in the popular battle royale title. Apex now has twelve playable characters for fans to pick from, each equipped with their own unique ability kits that can impact a game. It is not often that all legends are perfectly balanced, however, as players are continuing to come up with innovative new ways to gain advantages on their favorite characters, and as the developers make changes to abilities. As more and more characters are added to Apex, at a rate of one per season, some of the game’s legends have fallen a little too far behind their counterparts and we asked fans who they think needed a buff next. Surprisingly there were quite a few changes that the majority of fans agreed on, varying from minor ability changes to massive buffs for certain legends. One of the most popular requests was for the Holographic Trickster, Mirage, to receive some major buffs and Respawn devs seem to agree after confirming on April 7 that Mirage was due some upgrades in a future update. Octane was another Legend that fans rallied behind, with many claiming that he was just a little too underpowered in the current state of the game. Fans of the High-speed daredevil came up with some suggestions for how to improve his kit, such as buffing his ‘Stim’ ability to give him better jumps and faster reloads, to help him keep up against some of the meta picks. When he hits his adrenaline shot he should be able to reload faster and double jump or some sort of jumping ability. pic.twitter.com/HoUKpBGHrA — A B E L (@AFFECTION_91) April 11, 2020 Although Octane and Mirage stood out as two of the favorites, there were also calls for individual abilities such as Bangalore’s ultimate to receive some buffs with claims that her missiles are a bit too slow to explode. There were some players asking for some changes to be made to Caustic’s Nox Gas abilities, which Respawn has also revealed they are working on, highlighting that the Legend’s kit could affect some of his teammates in crucial situations. Not really a buff but Caustics gas would be enjoyable to play with if his teammates could also see through his gas — Izaiah demott (@DemottIzaiah) April 11, 2020 Although some of the fans’ suggestions are always already scheduled to happen, it will be difficult for Respawn to maintain a perfect balance with many more Legends, such as Loba, rumored to be added in the coming seasons and change how games are played.

  • Apex Legends players vote on which weapon needs a buff next – Dexerto

Apex Legends players vote on which weapon needs a buff next Respawn EntertainmentWith Apex Legends approaching its eighth season, we threw it to the player base to decide which gun needs an urgent buff. With nearly 30,000 votes cast, one weapon was the clear winner. Gun balancing is one of the most crucial aspects to any shooter, with few things as annoying as feeling like you shot first and died first. Masses of data analysis goes into weapon balancing, with developers looking at time-to-kill, ADS speed, handling and more when adjusting guns. As is natural though, certain weapons rise to the top of the pyramid, while others fall right down towards the bottom. For this, we turned our attention towards the bottom of the pyramid and asked the community which weapon needs the most urgent buff. For Apex specifically though, things are a bit different. Some weapons, like the Mozambique for P2020 for example, are purposefully not as strong as others. This is because in a battle royale, there should still be a semblance of tiers to weapons, which rewards looting for better gear. What weapon needs buffed in Apex Legends? Still, there are some weapons that players feel deserve a bit more love to at least make them viable, even if they’re not going to knock off the R-99. So, we asked the community, and almost 30,000 avid players responded. The options were L-Star, Alternator or Charge Rifle. Three weapons which you’d expect to be viable weapons, even to the end-game, but are usually tossed out in favor of something else. After nearly 30,000 votes, the Alternator SMG came out on top as the gun most in need of a buff, with a whopping 45% of the vote. That equates to roughly 13,200 votes. The L-Star came in second with almost 25%, while the Charge Rifle only picked up 13%. The L-Star Plasma fueled LMG was added back in Season 2, but has struggled to truly make its mark on the Apex Legends scene. It can only shoot 22 shots before overheating, or 26 with the Modded Loader attachment. It received just shy of a quarter of the vote. The Charge Rifle, a sniper added in Season 3, received 13% of the vote, while the option to nominate an entirely different weapon received 16.7%. The fourth option, which got 16% of the vote, was to name another weapon. Some popular suggestions from the comments were the Longbow DMR and Triple Take. One player said: “I feel like [the Longbow]’s probably the worst sniper right now without the hop up.” Others argued that the Spitfire could do with a buff, perhaps to its fire rate, so it can keep up with its fellow LMG, the Devotion. Despite its whopping 45% of the vote, some argued the Alternator is perfectly viable as it is. Despite its lower fire rate and damage, the Alternator has excellent handling and a predictable recoil pattern. Some players clearly don’t think this is enough to mitigate its weaknesses. Only time will tell whether Respawn feel the need to make adjustments to any of the weapons players want to see buffed.

  • Apex Legends players admit devs were right as Solo mode gets ruined – Dexerto

Apex Legends players admit devs were right as Solo mode gets ruined RespawnDespite many calling for Solos to return, the Apex Legends community has now come to realize why the devs have been against bringing the mode back for a long time. The temporary return of Solos mode was supposed to be an exciting moment for the game’s playerbase, that is until the issues of teamers and cheaters became rampant. Now, Apex Legends fans are facing the music, as they have discovered that the devs may have been right to keep Solos away. Though they claimed they’d never be bringing solos back as recently as January 2024, the mode came back – it’s already being ruined by the playerbase. Even with the mode set to disappear soon, players want it gone immediately. In one Reddit post, a user shares a video of their character dealing with a group of teamers, a term that refers to players who band together in a free-for-all game mode. As the player mentions in their post: “The first time I saw it, I thought it was funny, but now it’s annoying. I’ve seen it 5 times this season…” Another post on the subreddit shows a glaring example of cheating, as they spectate a player who lands every shot without even aiming before eventually winning the match. These two videos are just a couple of examples of the state that Apex Legends’ Solos is in, and it’s showing fans why the devs were hesitant to bring it back. As one user explains: “I think this is the main reason why the devs didn’t want to return the solo mode for a long time. Now we have it as proof or something like that.” In fact, Respawn discussed the issues with Solos in a January 2024 Game Informer interview. In it, Lead Legend Designer Devan McGuire explained how playing alone went against the game’s philosophy, saying “A single character should never be the answer to every problem. They should be part of that team dynamic. That’s what creates interesting strategies in the game.” It appears that many Apex Legends players are now understanding Respawn’s line of thinking, as one person explains, “I was happy for Solos and was hoping for it to be permanent too, but I want Duos back…” Another fan claims they would even “pay so much money” to be able to play Apex Legends without any cheaters. Fortunately for these people, Solos will be leaving Apex Legends very soon, but the whole experience has left many of them with a rude awakening: The devs were right all along.

  • Apex Legends players urge Respawn to overhaul weapon crafting to shake up loot – Dexerto

Apex Legends players urge Respawn to overhaul weapon crafting to shake up loot Respawn/EAApex Legends players want Respawn to put the weapons that are placed inside the Replicators on a regular rotation, just like they do with other bits of floor loot. At the start of Apex Legends Season 12, Respawn made some pretty massive changes to their popular battle royale, bringing in Mad Maggie as a new legend, tweaking the maps, and balancing other characters. On top of that, the devs caught many players off guard when they revealed that weapons – in this case, the Flatline and Longbow – would be removed from floor loot and placed inside of the Replicators. For many players, it’s not a bad change, seeing as they can easily grab some materials and then craft the gun they want without needing to search all game for it. Though, others would like to see Respawn mix it up a little. When the developers made the change to put weapons inside the Replicators, they stated that it would be a season-long change – similar to those weapons that go into supply drops. Well, Redditors like ThatIsGangster, UserNotFound32, and xCeePee would like to see a difference between the two, and have the Replicator choices shaken up every so often.

  • Apex Legends players urge Respawn to make Gun Run LTM permanent – Dexerto

Apex Legends players urge Respawn to make Gun Run LTM permanent Respawn/EAApex Legends players want to see the Gun Run LTM made permanent given it has taught some fans more about the battle royale’s weapons than ever before. Over the last few years, Respawn Entertainment have repeatedly brought about new limited-time modes – or LTMs – to Apex Legends that have quickly captured the attention of fans. That’s been the same story in Season 14 as they’ve released Gun Run. If you haven’t tried it out yet, well, where have you been? Gun Run is a take on the classic Call of Duty game mode Gun Game where, by getting a kill, you progress to a new gun before needing to get a game-winning kill with a throwing knife. The mode, which is set to go away soon, has already proven pretty popular with fans as a way to warm up before dropping into the main BR. And, as a result, many want it to stick around. Apex Legends fans want Gun Run to be 24/7 mode Plenty of fans across social media have urged Respawn to make it a permanent mode, with plenty of Reddit posts getting significant backing from players. “Firing Range feels very static, BR is very high pressure with just one life while Gun Run and the constant challenge of different enemies and different scenarios works so well in my learning and having fun at the same time,” said one fan, who praised the mode as a training tool, saying its taught them “more about weapons and recoil” than the main BR. “Gun Run has definitely been fun. It’s also really helped me learn some guns I never touch. I agree, it should never leave!” added another. “It’s literally the best warmup mode in the game and I wish they’d keep it in permanently. Truly no reason not to,” commented another. Some Apex fans noted that they actually “hate” the mode in general, but couldn’t help but tip their hat to how others have used it to finally learn the game a bit more. As we’ve seen, Respawn won’t make LTMs permanent, but those that get a bit more love than normal from fans will get rotated in more often. So, maybe that will be where Gun Run lands.

  • Apex Legends players urge Respawn to broaden anti-cheat to target ‘Strike Pack’ cheaters – Dexerto

Apex Legends players urge Respawn to broaden anti-cheat to target ‘Strike Pack’ cheaters Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling on Respawn to make improvements to the game’s anti-cheat systems in order to target ‘Strike Pack’ cheaters, who appear more and more common in Season 13. Apex Legends has been an overwhelming success, amassing a player-base comfortably in the millions and earning EA huge amounts of income despite its status as a free-to-play battle royale. However, like some of its main competitors – namely Warzone and Fortnite – it has experienced significant issues with cheaters and continues to do so in Season 13. One problem players have been encountering more and more in-game is opponents using ‘Strike Packs’ and, as the cheaters show little sign of slowing down, Respawn are being urged to expand their efforts to tackle the issues. Apex cheaters using “Strike Packs” in Season 13 Drawing attention to the issue via Reddit was player ‘Bluqo’, who asked: “When will strike packs be a bannable offence?” Attached was a clip showing an enemy believed to be using ‘Strike Packs’, a cheat Apex Legends players appear to be encountering more and more. Similar to ‘Macros’ in terms of how they function, Strike Packs are attached to a controller and mimic inputs to give in-game boosts, like removing recoil completely. In the clip the player highlighted, the alleged cheater is firing at full speed, albeit single fire, so experiencing no recoil. However, unlike Macros, they are harder for anti-cheat systems to detect. The response from players, understandably, was to call for a more robust system to identify and ban players abusing such apparatus. One suggested that Respawn needed to do more, describing the game as “filled with teams like this…I genuinely don’t know how they save the health of the game, it’s in such a sad state.” Others, though, suggested it would take a collaborative effort with Sony or Microsoft and that Respawn alone will struggle to identify and ban players using Strike Packs. Here’s hoping the situation improves moving forwards.

  • Apex Legends players urge devs to fix “unplayable” Loba in Season 13 – Dexerto

Apex Legends players urge devs to fix “unplayable” Loba in Season 13 Respawn/EALoba mains are, once again, frustrated with the fact that her bracelet ability is still broken in Apex Legends, seasons after Respawn stated it would be addressed. Ever since she was introduced back in Season 5, Loba has caused quite a number of headaches for both players and Respawn Entertainment due to her abilities not working as intended at times. While the devs have addressed previous issues with her Eye for Quality passive and Black Market Boutique Ultimate, her bracelet is still not working as it should. Even though Respawn stated that they’d fixed things a few seasons back, players are still unable to escape fights or rotate using the tactical ability, and it’s really grinding their gears as she is apparently “unplayable” right now. Plenty of Loba mains have voiced their frustration with the problem at times, but calls for a fix have once again ramped up in Season 13: Saviors given that the bug is still causing headaches. One Redditor showcased a clip of them repeatedly trying, and failing, to escape a fight with the bracelet, calling the problem “nonsense” and demanding a fix. Naturally, other players jumped on board with their own experiences. “Actually shocked they haven’t fixed this yet. It’s a huge bug,” said one player. “I don’t know why people continue to play Loba with this still going on,” added another. “I love Loba, but she’s seriously unplayable right now,” another commenter, claiming that the problem “seems worse” during games on Storm Point. Others pointed out that while Loba’s issues are long-standing, Season 13 has seemingly messed up a number of abilities. “Mirage’s decoys still run slow sometimes, Pathfinder’s grapple randomly disconnects for me, and Mad Maggie’s ult is jittery sometimes,” added another player. As noted, the problems with Loba’s bracelet have been around forever, and Respawn have attempted to address it on a number of occasions. The devs have stated that it is being worked on, but players want a fix once and for all – and fast.

  • Apex Legends players unhappy with “butchered” Final Fantasy skin – Dexerto

Apex Legends players unhappy with “butchered” Final Fantasy skin Square Enix / RespawnThe Apex Legends community was upset with how the Final Fantasy collaboration Aerith skin for Horizon looked in screenshots from the trailer. Respawn has managed to release collaboration skins in the past that were popular with players, like the Luffy-inspired skin for Octane. However, data miners have always found a way to leak the skins’ appearances before the official release, ruining the surprise for players. Therefore it came as a pleasant shock to the Apex Legends community when Respawn announced a collaboration with Final Fantasy at the Game Awards 2023. Respawn teased players with a cinematic trailer for the skins alongside the announcement, but eagle-eyed players weren’t happy with one of the skins shown. Apex Legends players upset with Final Fantasy Aerith skin One fan managed to capture a close-up image of the Horizon x Aerith skin from the trailer and wasn’t happy when comparing it to the original character, sarcastically stating: “Wow good job Apex Legends, that’s definitely what Aerith would look like if she was a 40 year old.” Players who hadn’t noticed the character model in the trailer were shocked. “It’s hideous it’s revolting and doesn’t deserve the name Aerith. Apex never do Final Fantasy collabs again if you’re gonna butcher it this badly,” one fan said. “Holy hell, that looks awful” another person agreed. For others, the skin wasn’t a bad merging of the popular figures Aelith and Horizon, however, they felt the skin would’ve looked much better on a different character Wattson. “No f**king way they gave Horizon Aerith,” one person complained. “There was literally Wattson.” But while loyal Apex fans were frustrated with the Apex Legends x Final Fantasy collaboration, FF fans didn’t mind it considering that they finally got the Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker soundtrack on music streaming services after a 2-year wait.

  • Apex Legends players uncover frustrating new looting bug – Dexerto

Apex Legends players uncover frustrating new looting bug Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends demands players to be quick and meaningful in their decisions when a firefight breaks out, but a recurring bug is throwing a wrench in a lot of players’ matches leading some to beg for a fix. Respawn Entertainment’s launch for their battle royale was met with an incredibly enthusiastic fan base that grew to insane numbers in a matter of weeks. But now that community is starting to feel burgeoning growing pains in the title that is starting to affecting players. In a Reddit post, user ‘Simpleyfaded’ linked a video of him in a heated warzone that he was managing quite well until a routine loot pickup made a bug showed up resulting in a quick exit from the game. A bug in the Loot Boxes Just as Simpleyfaded was finishing up a downed opponent, he went rummaging through their loot to pick up some armor. Though some players pointed to Simpleyfaded looting out in the open with weapons sounding off nearby as their first mistake, all would’ve gone according to plan if the game didn’t decide to stall the Body Armor’s appearance inside the Loot Box. Even though everything from the eliminated enemy’s weapons to attachments were readily available to loot, it took the armor a full two seconds to show up on the list of items. How bad is the bug? While the bug doesn’t break the game at its seams, the two second (sometimes more) pause to wait for the armor can heavily swing someone’s game as seen in the video. In this one example Simpleyfaded wasn’t contemplating which loadout would be best to equip from the eliminated player’s stash. All they wanted was some armor to move on with the next battle. In waiting for the armor to show up, a Gibraltar no less was able to get the jump on Simpleyfaded, instantly taking them out of the game. The bug has been making its rounds in the Apex Legends community, even though Simpleyfaded was on Xbox other players noted the bug occuring on PlayStation and even PC. Apex Legends players have been noticing Armor delays happening more and more, so it’ll be interesting to see if Respawn Entertainment addresses the issue soon.

  • Apex Legends players uncover Caustic “buff” for aim assist – Dexerto

Apex Legends players uncover Caustic “buff” for aim assist Respawn/EAIf you’re using a controller in Apex Legends, you might want to pick up Caustic as a regular go-to character seeing as he actually helps aim assist in some cases. Just like plenty of other multiplayer titles over the last few years, the debate around aim assist has raged on and on in Apex Legends. Many PC players don’t want to play in lobbies where controllers are used – be it on a console or another PC – given that they believe aim assist is akin to a soft aimbot. On the flip side, some console players want to see it buffed to combat the skills of some keyboard and mouse players. It’s a debate that will never end, even though steps have been taken to try and even the playing field. Though, it seems as if using Caustic can actually give you a leg up on the aim assist side of things. Caustic “buffs” controller players in Apex Legends It was something highlighted by Apex Legends YouTuber Skeptation, who noted that Caustic’s Gas doesn’t operate in the same as Bangalore’s smoke does in regards to aim assist. When Bang’s smoke is popped, aim assist is disabled briefly, and doesn’t even work if you have a digital threat scope. Though, when Caustic uses his gas grenade, you still get the added boost of aim assist – even if the target you’re after is completely covered by the toxic gas. “This means using Caustic gas basically buffs controller,” the YouTuber said in their brief video, showing the difference between the two abilities. Some Caustic mains noted that they’ve known this for quite some time, and that it’s the reason they still use the Toxic Trapper despite his middling pick rate. “Add the fact that the Gas will slow enemies down and you can see why Caustic is much preferred by controller players, especially in competitive,” said one. Other players suggested that it’s not particularly a buff, and that the comparison to Bangalore is a bit off given that her smoke is much thicker than the gas. Of course, it might be something for Respawn to look into but it’s hardly like Caustic needs any further nerfs.

  • Apex Legends players uncover Broken Moon secret no one thought was possible – Dexerto

Apex Legends players uncover Broken Moon secret no one thought was possible Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have discovered a glitch that’s causing competitors to get double loot on the new Broken Moon map. While every Apex Legends player goes into a match looking to rack up kills and secure a victory with their squad, it’s easy to get distracted if you discover something out of the ordinary. This is especially true on a new map like Broken Moon, as Respawn hasn’t had the time to iron out glitches and bizarre issues in certain locations. Well, Apex players have been running into an extremely unique but useful encounter on Boreas’ moon Cleo that gives them double loot. To their surprise, after destroying one of the loot ticks found around the map, a second is often hidden directly underneath. Useful glitch offers Apex players double loot on Broken Moon Showcased by popular Apex Legends YouTuber The Gaming Merchant, a glitch has been found on Broken Moon that’s providing players with double loot. Just like Kings Canyon, Broken Moon contains loot ticks that are randomly scattered around the map. These small devices are shaped just like Apex packs and make noises to alert players of their position. If meleed or shot, they explode into a bundle of useful loot, but the ticks on Broken Moon are a little more generous than intended. After destroying one, players have discovered that another is often hidden underneath, effectively offering double loot. While this is almost certainly a glitch, it’s completely harmless and a lot of players are hoping that Respawn doesn’t remove it. Hitting loot ticks is incredibly satisfying so having the opportunity to melee two, one after another is definitely appreciated by the community. So, next time you find a loot tick, make sure you double check there’s not a second one hidden in the same spot, it’s not guaranteed, but it’s well worth keeping your eyes peeled.

  • Apex Legends players tired of “wallhack” meta as Maggie’s abilities revealed for Season 12 – Dexerto

Apex Legends players tired of “wallhack” meta as Maggie’s abilities revealed for Season 12 Respawn EntertainmentFollowing the reveal of Maggie’s x-ray Passive, Apex Legends players have slammed the devs for constantly releasing new characters with “wallhack” abilities. Season 12 of Apex Legends is set to go live on February 8 and although the community is excited for the Olympus map changes and 9v9 Control mode, it’s the arrival of Mad Maggie that’s getting the majority of the attention. Equipped with a fire drill Tactical and a giant wrecking ball Ultimate, it’s safe to say Maggie is prepared to make her presence known on the Outlands, and potentially break into the meta. Despite this, not everyone is happy with Maggie’s kit, with the main point of contention being her x-ray Passive that allows her to see enemies she’s damaged through walls for a short period of time. For some, another x-ray ability only adds to the growing “wallhack” meta that Respawn has created in the last few seasons. Apex players disappointed Maggie has a “wallhack” Passive Shortly after Mad Maggie’s official character trailer went live on February 3, a thread was created on the Apex Legends subreddit questioning why Respawn feels the need to give every new Legend a “wallhack” ability. The post quickly garnered a lot of attention and upvotes, with countless players wondering why Maggie even needs x-ray vision considering she already has boosted movement speed with a shotgun. “Zero reason to add this to her, she already has the shotgun passive and a strong tactical with a pretty good-looking ult.” It’s obvious the community is confused over the devs decision to continue adding “wallhack” abilities to the game, especially as they announced in Season 11 that they’re monitoring the scan meta. As Maggie isn’t a Recon Legend, a lot of the community don’t think Warlord’s Ire even fits her theme as a character. With leaks suggesting she may have had a shotgun kick in the past during her design process, a lot of players are disappointed Respawn didn’t keep that as her Passive. “Honestly I heard a rumor of her passive being a shotgun kick that would allow her to kick down doors… this would fit her vibe so much better than yet another wallhack”. Either way, until she’s been released onto the Outlands it’s hard to know how powerful her Passive will be or whether she’ll establish a foothold in the meta. However, players have made it very clear that they’re growing tired of wallhack abilities, but will Respawn listen to the backlash?

  • Apex Legends players think they’ve spotted unreleased Legend in Stories from the Outlands – Dexerto

Apex Legends players think they’ve spotted unreleased Legend in Stories from the Outlands Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players believe they’ve spotted the unreleased character Uplink in the ‘Family Business’ Stories from the Outlands video. Back in March, a major Apex Legends leak revealed the names of nine unreleased characters, including Newcastle who hadn’t arrived in the Outlands at that time. Since then, the community has been keeping a keen eye on any content pushed out by Respawn in the hopes that the devs have left some breadcrumbs for players to follow. As a result, as soon as the recent ‘Family Business’ Stories from the Outlands dropped on June 14, it didn’t take eagle-eyed fans long to start speculating. One theory that’s receiving a lot of attention is that the unreleased Legend Uplink makes a cameo in Lifeline’s story video. Although there’s no solid evidence, the character from ‘Family Business’ does show a striking resemblance to the Satellite Savior’s splash art. Apex players think Uplink appears in ‘Family Business’ Shortly after the ‘Family Business’ Stories from the Outlands went live, Reddit user CrystalClown96 took to the ApexUncovered subreddit to suggest an interesting theory. Based on the splash art leaked back in March, they think Respawn gave the unreleased character Uplink makes a cameo in the hospital scene of ‘Family Business’. While there’s no solid evidence other than appearance, it does seem possible given both Lifeline & Uplink are support Legends, and this wouldn’t be the first time the devs have dropped a hint in a trailer. Although this mysterious character isn’t in the video for very long, the camera does focus on them for a set period of time, which is one of the reasons fans are suspicious. Not only that, both Uplink and the medic are equipped with a headset and share a similar hairstyle. You can check out ‘Family Business’ below and make up your own mind: Topic starts at 1:50 While the observations are pure speculation at the moment, it’s always exciting to try and identify clues in the trailers that Respawn release. The devs have a history of dropping breadcrumbs for fans, and it’s possible they’re doing exactly that again. However, it’s also likely that this medic in ‘Family Business’ has no relation to Uplink, but we’ll have to wait and see if we can spot them again at some point in the future.

  • Apex Legends players think Loba has an artifact from Titanfall 2 – Dexerto

Apex Legends players think Loba has an artifact from Titanfall 2 Respawn EntertainmentLoba can be seen stealing something in the Story from the Outlands ‘Legacy of a Thief’ Season 5 teaser, and the Apex Legends community are using clues from Titanfall 2 to figure out what the device can be. As her lore video reveals, she was the best thief around, and was famous for being able to acquire anything she wanted. Making it no surprise that the upcoming Apex Legends character is shown in a heavily guarded vault. But it’s how she makes her escape that has people scratching their heads as to what allowed her to get out of the sticky situation scot-free. Redditor ‘el3ctric-runner’ pointed out the similarities between the stolen device Loba will presumably use for her abilities at 0:47 in the video and the Time Gauntlet that was featured in Titanfall 2. “I don’t think anyone else noticed this but the device Loba has looks alot like the time travel device from Titanfall 2,” they said. Players got to experience the device in action on the ‘Effect and Cause’ mission while running through the IMC facility. The similarities between both devices are striking, and it isn’t out of the realm of possibilities that an updated device was created in the 30-year gap between the events of Titanfall 2 when the IMC was taken down and Apex Legends. But we know that this isn’t exactly the same technology as Wraith’s interdimensional shifts into the Void. Respawn Entertainment writer Tom Casiello said that “we are not going into the Void … the Void is safe for Wraith” when addressing Loba’s teleportation. Moreover, the developers have already shown their willingness to dip into resources that were meant for Titanfall just to give them new life in Apex Legends. No spoilers: considering the fate of the device in Titanfall 2, it seems unlikely that the Time Gauntlet would feature in the battle royale. Furthermore, the Time Gauntlet is an object that deals with time-travel instead of phasing, so they could have shared the same tech trees in R&D but are distinct technologies in the TTF universe. With Season 5 of Apex Legends just around the corner, answers for the game’s many mysteries are bound to come as well as – knowing Respawn – new questions for the community to speculate on.

  • Apex Legends players think Lifeline is still stronger than Newcastle in Season 13 – Dexerto

Apex Legends players think Lifeline is still stronger than Newcastle in Season 13 Respawn EntertainmentAfter concerns Lifeline was going to be pushed out of the meta in Season 13, Apex Legends players have now decided the Combat Medic is stronger than Newcastle. Season 13 of Apex Legends introduced Ranked Reloaded, a brand new POI, and a range of balance changes that heavily impacted the meta. Despite this, it was the Heroic Defender Newcastle that garnered most of the attention thanks to his selfless kit that can seemingly help allies escape any gunfight, no matter the odds. Of course, not everyone was pleased with the arrival of the mighty shield-bearer, with Lifeline mains complaining that she would become useless in Saviors as there would be no reason to pick her. Well, just three weeks after the seasonal update, players appear to have changed their minds about Newcastle, claiming Lifeline is in fact the stronger Legend. Apex players think Lifeline is better than Newcastle Newcastle’s arrival in the Outlands was a cause for concern for a lot of Lifeline players, who originally thought the Heroic Defender had a stronger and improved version of the Combat Medic’s kit. With a Passive similar to her old res-shield and the ability to pull allies out of danger, the assumption was that Newcastle was going to push Lifeline out of the meta completely. Well, now the dust has settled from the major update, players seem to have changed their minds on the matter, realizing that Lifeline’s Passive has a lot more power than they originally thought. “Being able to shoot and revive at the same time is an amazing asset… She can prevent the push with gunfire and grenades while the revive is happening”. The ability to fight back while reviving is an extremely useful ability for Lifeline and was one of the reasons why the devs were confident she wouldn’t need buffs in Season 13. As expected, not everyone agrees that the Combat Medic is better than Newcastle, with some players arguing that the shield-bearer performs better in a coordinated squad. “Newcastle’s kit is way better for a team or as a solo player… the only thing I can think of she has the advantage in is hitbox size”. Either way, now the community is starting to appreciate Lifeline more, it’ll be interesting to see if the calls for buffs or a rework die down as Season 14 approaches.

  • Apex Legends players swatted while hosting live tournament – Dexerto

Apex Legends players swatted while hosting live tournament A couple streaming on Apex Legends tournament. A Virginia couple, who go by HisandHersLive on Twitch, hosting an Apex Legends tournament were met with a rude awakening after their house was surrounded by police for over two hours after someone called 911 on them and said a murder took place in their home. The two streamers, Andrew and Judy Kristensen, were playing the battle royale before being forced out of their home by gunpoint on September 14, according to NBC 12. They tweeted about the incident after it happened, explaining how that’s “not how we expected to spend our Friday night.” Whelp, not how we expected to spend our Friday night. https://t.co/0rIFgMUvS0 — HisandHersLive (@HisandHersLive) September 15, 2019 The couple didn’t even know anything was going on until Andrew received a call from his brother asking about what was going on. Read More: When is Apex Legends Season 3? – “So, I pick up the phone and it’s my brother and he says, ‘Hey dude, everyone’s looking for you. There are police at your door, you need to go let them in. You’ve been swatted,’” he said. During the raid on the house, you could see the officers searching the home on the livestream, as everything happened so fast and they had no time to end the stream. No injuries occurred as a result of this dangerous prank and police currently have no leads on who the person responsible is. Swatting is when somebody reports a fake crime at an address in an effort to get the police to show up and cause a major inconvenience, and they have the potential to turn deadly. They usually target streamers in an effort to watch the chaos unfold as it happens. We’ve seen people lose their lives as a result of these pranks in the past, such as the notorious Call of Duty swatting that stemmed from a $1.50 wager and led to the death of a Kansas man. This Apex Legends swatting comes on the same day Twitch streamer OddKast was swatted in the middle of hosting a podcast and saw police enter and search his home, all while live on stream. Thankfully, nobody was harmed during this swatting.

  • Apex Legends players think Supply Bins need a major loot overhaul – Dexerto

Apex Legends players think Supply Bins need a major loot overhaul Apex Legends players have been noticing that the game’s Supply Bins aren’t offering useful loot for them to equip, leading to some frustrating moments throughout a match. The chaotic nature of Apex Legends’ early game has players scrambling from building to building to scavenge any loot piles or Supply Bins they come across. But many games are quickly ended when opening a Supply Bin to find a row of level 1 Body Shields, and nothing else. While the very nature of battle royales work to sift out players at every turn, it’s hard to be competitive in the game when the RNG leaves you weapon-less for the better portions of the early game. Cursed Supply Bins throughout Apex Legends A few examples from the Apex Legends subreddit community show that there is room for major improvements as it pertains to the loot that could be dropped in Supply Bins. “Season 3 loot isn’t that bad, you’re just not good at the game,” user ‘callgage’ joked as they featured a Supply Bin lined with Common Body Armor. While armor is necessary to keep players alive, if not for a moment, battle royales typically require something to fight back with in order to make it into the late-game. Though at least there was enough of the body shields to supply a full Apex Legends squad, unlike ‘zuzu_1290’s Supply Bin haul which only had enough shields fit for a solo player. Even though players should train themselves to loot up quick – which entails quickly scanning a Supply Bin’s contents and bolting at the moment they realize there’s nothing useful in there – it’s not like there isn’t anything that can be done. A method to the Supply Bin’s madness In the past, players have figured out Lifeline’s Care Package in terms of what kind of loot is likely to spawn on the different panels. Perhaps a similar approach could be taken with Supply Bins. Read more: How to play Duos mode in Apex Legends – For example, the leftmost spawns of a Bin could hold weapons/ammo/attachments, while the center carries attachments/ammo/grenades, and the rightmost mixes in armors like helmets and body shields. RNG would still have a major impact on the contents inside of the Supply Bins, but there could be a layer of security for players by knowing at least what/where the type of loot could spawn. The purpose of a battle royale’s loot is to be randomized as it has been since Apex Legends’ release, but a bit of order in their chaos could provide a more rewarding start in the early part of the game.

  • Apex Legends players suggest vital changes Arenas mode desperately needs – Dexerto

Apex Legends players suggest vital changes Arenas mode desperately needs Respawn/EAApex Legends players have detailed some of the changes they’d like to see made to Arenas mode going forward, and they’re not entirely unrealistic. Just like other battle royales, Respawn Entertainment has sprinkled in a few different ways to play Apex Legends. There have been limited-time modes galore, but they’ve also been adding some new permanent modes too. The main one of which has been Arenas. The fast-paced 3v3 mode was introduced at the start of Season 9, and lets players pick a loadout before going into battle. It’s proven to be pretty popular so far – to the point where NICKMERCS wants other game devs to take a page out of Respawn’s book and use it themselves. However, players still want changes. For most players, the biggest bone of contention with the mode is the matchmaking. It can be wildly inconsistent, especially if you’re teaming with randoms. As a result, some would like the option to surrender if they get left in a 1v3 or 2v3 because someone left. On top of that, some players just want to be rewarded more for their efforts – be it through challenges or ranked points. “I will have to win 40 games in a row just to make Diamond. So I gave up. It’s insulting to get 13 points for a win and lose 17 for a loss,” said Redditor StackJr. “Kills and knocks should impact RP,” added another. Though, for some fans, they’d like to have more maps available to play at any one time. “I wish all the maps were in rotation all the time so I’m not playing on the same one over and over again,” added ClassroomOk6379. Other suggestions include the likes of private lobbies, which has long been requested for the main battle royale mode, as well as bumping it to 5v5 or 6v6 on occasion. These aren’t outlandish requests by any means, and Respawn could easily implement them to freshen things up, but it would take attention away from the main BR. So, it’s a balance of what to focus on.

  • Apex Legends players suggest simple rework of Pathfinder’s recon passive – Dexerto

Apex Legends players suggest simple rework of Pathfinder’s recon passive Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player has suggested a simple rework to Pathfinder’s passive that would fit his robot theme perfectly and give him the ability to scout locations ahead of time. Apex Legends Season 10 is well underway and players are getting to grips with all of the new additions that have been added. Whether it’s the absolutely lethal Rampage LMG or the brand new Legend Seer, there’s no shortage of fresh content for the community to get stuck into. Despite this, Seer’s incredibly powerful heartbeat sensor ability has led some members of the community to question why other Legends have such unimpactful passives. One of which being Pathfinder, whose current passive only allows him to reduce the cooldown of his ultimate by interacting with survey beacons. As a result of this, a player has come up with a solution and suggested a simple rework that could add slightly more depth to the Forward Scout’s kit. Simple Pathfinder passive rework includes zoom feature A thread posted to the Apex Legends subreddit suggesting a simple rework for Pathfinder’s passive has garnered over 400 upvotes at the time of writing. Rickgotmytongue’s concept involves replacing Pathfinder’s outdated survey beacon passive with a digital threat zoom scope that he can use while his weapons are holstered. This would allow the Forward Scout to spot enemies from afar and dictate the best route to take while navigating through the map. Not only that, it fits his appearance and theme perfectly as Pathfinder’s huge monocular eye could be the source of this new and improved ability. Although this passive concept would be a great fit for Pathfinder, the only concern is the Digital Threat side of the ability. Being able to see enemies through smoke and other visual impairments at will could be slightly too powerful and completely counter Legends like Bangalore. However, there’s no denying that the zoom aspect of the passive would make Pathfinder a more interactive character and make him a true scout in Apex Legends. With so many requests for Pathfinder’s passive to be reworked, it’ll be interesting to see if the devs take note and decide to make any changes.

  • Apex Legends players suggest simple fix for most useless weapon scope – Dexerto

Apex Legends players suggest simple fix for most useless weapon scope EAThere are a handful of scopes and sights to use in Apex Legends, but there is one in particular that is generally snubbed by players and could do with an overhaul. While Legend choice is essential in Apex Legends, one element of gameplay that can ultimately determine your success is obviously your loot. The sight that you equip on your weapon can often be a game-changer, with a variety of HCOG, Holo and Variable sights available for your go-to weapon. Although there’s one particular scope that is grinding the gears of some players, which has sparked the demand for a change. The culprit? The 6x Sniper Scope. While World’s Edge offers longer lines of sight than its predecessor, Kings Canyon, the scope is still somewhat cumbersome to use, especially on the G7 Scout. If you come across an enemy a close-to-medium range, the 6x scope will do you no favors. Of course, you could whip out your secondary, but with the fast-paced nature of the Apex Games, an enemy will usually dispatch you quicker than Octane can whip out a stim. So what could be done to combat that? Well, for starters, don’t use the 6x Sniper Scope unless you’re playing super conservative. Or, as one savvy Redditor suggested, Respawn could add a notch to the scope to account for medium-range engagements. One user, who is a Wraith main (so will likely be getting up close and personal) commented: “I’d do a 3/6. Hate the 6x and will take a 2/4 or even 3x over it any day.” Another user responded that they’d be happy to use a 3x scope on the vast majority of weapons, aside from close-quarters weapons like shotguns. Of course, a 3-6x Variable Scope would make for a much more rewarding experience with a Sniper Rifle, and would perfectly bridge the gap between the 2-4x AOG and the 4-8x Sniper Scope currently in play. Given just how beneficial it would be to have a 3-6x in your arsenal, its rarity might need bumping up from ‘Rare’ to ‘Epic’ to compensate for the added flexibility provided.

  • Apex Legends players suggest major loot pool changes ahead of Season 12 – Dexerto

Apex Legends players suggest major loot pool changes ahead of Season 12 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Season 12 is on the horizon, and players are eager to see how Respawn changes up the battle royale’s formula this time around. Although the developers no doubt have plenty of changes planned themselves, fans have had their say on which items they want to see removed from the loot pool. Season 11 of Apex Legends is nearing the end of its lifespan, before making way for the shiny new Season 12 update coming in February. Even though the new chapter is just weeks away, we still know precious little about what to expect outside of a rumored new legend. While it will likely include fixes to some of the bugs and glitches that have plagued Season 11, fans have come up with some changes of their own that they want to see when the update rolls around. One of the most notable tweaks they are calling for is the loot available in each match. Apex has always had a huge variety of items scattered around its maps for players to collect, but players feel it could be streamlined to emphasize quality over quantity. Reddit user dog_in_a_gutter started the discussion, asking the question, “What do you think should be taken out of the game to clean the loot pool?” The community responded in droves, with the post receiving 1,700 comments in less than a day. One of the more popular responses called for white shields and helmets to be removed from the game, making blue the lowest rarity in both. Players questioned how often they are used, with one calling them “useless bloat in the loot pool.” Another idea that emerged on the thread would see the Bocek Compound Bow move into care packages, with the G7 heading back into the ground loot. “I think if they buff the Bow and put it in the package instead of the G7, they free up so much space. You completely get rid of one ammo type and a weapon.” Players loved the idea of reserving the Bow for care packages so that arrows could be totally removed from the ground, as they only apply to one weapon. Although, they conceded that the Bow would need a buff to around “80 body, 100 headshot” damage for it to work. The community also took to the thread asking for white backpacks to be removed from the loot pool, arguing that all players should start with one as standard. “White backpack, make this a thing everybody has when the round begins,” said the comment. “Agreed, we all know the struggle,” replied another user. One of the other biggest takeaways from the thread is that certain hop-ups, like Tempo, should be built into weapons, rather than being picked up. “Tempo is definitely something that should be built into the Bow and Sentinel by default, they offer only slight advantages that don’t make the weapon out of balance by default.” Read More: What is tap strafing in Apex Legends? – A different user responded calling for Shatter Caps, which allows the Bow or 30-30 repeater to switch fire types, to receive the same treatment. “No one is killing the game with shatter caps and it increases the versatility of weapons that almost no one uses.” None of the changes mentioned here would drastically alter the Apex Legends experience, but it’s easy to see how they could make the ground loot leaner and more useful. Fans will be hoping that Respawn take some of these suggestions on board when planning for Season 12.

  • Apex Legends players suggest League of Legends style honor system with rewards – Dexerto

Apex Legends players suggest League of Legends style honor system with rewards Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have called for Respawn to add a League of Legends-style honor system that rewards good behavior and positive teammates. While the new content that arrived with Season 10 is keeping the community busy, players are always coming up with new ideas and concepts to help improve Apex Legends. In most cases, these features and suggestions are unique but sometimes, they’re borrowed from other titles that the community think Respawn could learn from. Despite being in completely different gaming genres, it’s the MOBA League of Legends that players have turned to most recently, arguing that the Apex devs should implement a LoL-style honor system. That way, the community will be able to recognize positive players and potentially even reward them for their good behavior. How would a LoL-style honor system work in Apex Legends? After finishing a League of Legends match, players are presented with a screen that shows all of their teammates from the game with an option to honor each of them for a specific reason. Whether that’s just being friendly and positive or a great shot-caller during high-pressure situations, it allows you to praise your teammates for their hard work. In the hopes of combating toxicity, Apex Legends players have taken to the game’s official subreddit to ask Respawn to implement a similar system. They argue that this would encourage players to perform at their best on a regular basis, especially if there were rewards for those with good behavior. There’s no reason why a system like this couldn’t be added to Apex Legends and with a few rewards for those who stick to the rules, it likely would help to combat toxicity. It could even follow LoL’s system completely and add an honor level that players can build up over time. Although it’s unlikely Respawn would give out free packs to well-behaved players, a set of badges or gun charms could be enough of an incentive. Fingers crossed Respawn see this post and think about potentially adding a system that rewards positive members of the community.

  • Apex Legends players suggest Hop-Up rework to “clear the loot pool” – Dexerto

Apex Legends players suggest Hop-Up rework to “clear the loot pool” Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends community are floating an idea to rework Hop-Ups, consolidating the amount of items needed to encompass the weapon attachments. People are supporting the change, since it could vastly reduce the loot pool in the battle royale. Other than Rampart’s Graffiti Mod that ushered her arrival in Season 6, there are five Hop-Ups in Apex that either buffs or modifies the gun it’s attached to. While the items can be game-changing, their prevalence on the map can be troublesome at times. Looting can become tedious after going through multiple rooms just to find different iterations of a Hop-Up you don’t need. It’s for this reason that Redditor ‘O0804’ decided to reconfigure the attachments into just a couple of options that would pick up the work for the rest. “An idea I had for reducing hop-ups to clear the loot pool a little bit,” they said. Although there were people quick to point out inherent problems, it’s a concept that could be restructured to help out Apex’s loot. Splitting the items would create two Hop-Up modules. The concept proposed having the Hammerpoint and Skull Piercer, possibly with the Disruptor Rounds, in one item; while the other Hop-Up would substitutes Selectfire, Double Tap Trigger, Turbocharger, and Ancil Receiver. The idea was quickly signal boosted to the tune of nearly 14k upvotes at the time of writing, and had a lot of public support for the Respawn developers to explore. “I really like this concept, as it would eliminate finding useless Hammerpoints when loot searching allows me to focus more on killing,” another person wrote. “Switching from the gun you have to the gun you want would be slicker as well as it would eliminate backpack hoarding.” Of course, others were quick to add their suggestion to avoid complications with the Havoc, for example, that can either have the Select Fire or Turbocharger. In either case, the benefits of the change piqued players’ interest since it could lead to faster looting, better chances of finding a useful item, and the like. It’ll be interesting to see if Respawn actually pursues this kind of change to the Hop-Ups that would be popular among many people in the community.

  • Apex Legends players suggest brilliantly cruel way to deal with cheaters – Dexerto

Apex Legends players suggest brilliantly cruel way to deal with cheaters Respawn/EA/ForbesAccording to one Reddit post, Apex Legends players want a more severe punishment for cheaters, rather than simply outright banning them. Cheating takes place in more or less every game, with different punishments handed out depending on the offence and the game in question, from temporary suspensions to permanent bans. Epic Games, developers of Fortnite, went as far as to purchase video game security firm Kamu in October, specifically to combat cheaters. It seems now, however, that some Apex Legends players are sick of having their games ruined by people cheating, and have suggested a more serious form of punishment. Reddit user ‘RussianPandaOriginal’ posted their thoughts to the official Apex Legends subreddit, arguing that they should be secretly blacklisted and forced to play against one another. The post, as of March 3, stands at just under 10,000 up-votes. Blacklisting involves ostracizing a group of people who are perceived to have done something wrong, in this case cheating, and the notion of forcing them to all play against each other is undoubtedly a comedic suggestion. The Reddit user goes on to state that since the game’s developers have banned 16,000 cheaters in the first week “there is probably enough people in the player-base” for their idea to become a reality. The suggestion to “stream it on Twitch” promotes a hilarious image of 60 players, all cheating, going against one another. At least that way the average player’s game won’t be ruined.

  • Apex Legends devs ‘will consider’ genius Call of Duty-style change to weapon sights – Dexerto

Apex Legends devs ‘will consider’ genius Call of Duty-style change to weapon sights Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have wanted Respawn to add a custom reticle feature for quite some time, and the developers finally responded, revealing they have “no current plans” to add one, but will consider it. Whether it’s crosshairs, reticle color, sensitivity, or graphics, FPS players are extremely particular about their options and setup. This is certainly the case in Apex Legends, where players can spend hours trying to find the perfect settings. Despite this, Apex is still lacking some of the customizable options Rainbow and Call of Duty have. As a result, the community has been calling for Respawn to add the feature, even if it’s only reticle color, and the devs responded. Apex Legends devs respond to calls for custom reticle feature It was only a matter of time before the question popped up in the Apex Legends Legacy Update AMA. But instead of dodging the question, a developer responded, saying there are “no current plans for crosshair customization” due to the complexity behind them. “They don’t just grow and shrink in size due to hip-fire spread! They move based on aim point movement due to animation and such, change color and add elements sometimes due to character abilities, fade in and out based on sprinting and ammo, go transparent on and off with ADS and menus, and all sorts of stuff.” “Building a system such that we can present options for players, preview the results, and hook all that data deep into our crosshair UI script would be a really massive undertaking, and it would make future changes and new crosshair additions way more difficult. It’s just not high on the priority list.” However, it’s not all bad news. The developer admitted the feature would be nice, and hinted there’s a slight chance we could “get some smaller scope stuff in like color adjustments,” but there were “no promises.” Apex Legends players have wanted custom reticles for a long time You don’t have to look far to find a thread about custom reticles. One that popped up recently on Apex Legends subreddit gained nearly 15,000 upvotes, which is insane. The demand has been there for a long time now. Currently, players can switch to a colorblind mode that makes their reticle yellow. However, there are no other color options besides those two and it’s obvious Apex players want more freedom when it comes to customizing their weapon sights. Cata_1029 has even created a graphic detailing how the feature could be displayed in the game’s settings. While a reticle feature borrowed from Siege and Call of Duty certainly wouldn’t be as exciting as a new Legend releasing, it would provide players with a great quality of life change. Visibility in FPS’s is absolutely essential for players and giving them more choice over their UI and setup is never a bad decision. It’s great that Resawn has finally acknowledged the demand, but hopefully they come through with the goods, even if it’s just a simple color change option.

  • Apex Legends players demand fix for “unplayable” stuttering in Season 9 – Dexerto

Apex Legends players demand fix for “unplayable” stuttering in Season 9 Respawn EntertainmentA number of Apex Legends players have shared their frustration after experiencing major stuttering problems in Season 9, with some claiming to have lost “countless” games because of it. Season 9 of Apex Legends has been winning over fans with a new 3v3 Arenas Mode and the high-flying Legend Valkyrie, but quite a few players have been experiencing bugs that have made the game almost unplayable. In a thread on the Apex Legends subreddit, user PrestigiousAd2016 shared a video of the stuttering they experienced during a match on Xbox, letting Respawn Entertainment know that the issue needs to be “fixed ASAP”. As you can see in the clip below, the stuttering issue caused the player to miss their shots, turning what could’ve been a small victory into a frustrating loss as they ended up being knocked down by their opponent. “Only this season has this happened to me. Lost countless games due to it,” said a fellow Xbox player, while another agreed, “This is simply preposterous, I find myself almost deleting the game when this happens.” A third labeled Apex Legends “unplayable” because of the stuttering they’ve experienced in Season 9. It’s not just Xbox players who are having an issue, as one PlayStation user wrote: “Same here on PS5. I’m losing way too many gunfights because of this and actually lost my confidence to get into gunfights.” Later on, another Reddit user shared a video of the stuttering they faced while playing Apex Legends. Their experience was even more extreme than the previous player’s, with one Redditor describing it as a “straight up horror movie.” Respawn recently confirmed that a fix for stuttering issues on PC is coming, with Lead Software Engineer Samy ‘ricklesauceur’ Duc telling fans on Reddit that the issue “should be gone after [the] next patch”. But that doesn’t address the concerns that console players are experiencing. Hopefully, Respawn will follow up with a fix for those on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch soon. Make sure to follow along at @alphaINTEL to keep up with all the latest Apex Legends news.

  • Apex Legends players stunned after enemies load into Firing Range too – Dexerto

Apex Legends players stunned after enemies load into Firing Range too Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players were left scratching their heads after randomly loading into a Firing Range instance together. Offering a respite from chaotic battle royale gameplay, Apex Legends gives players the ability to take a breather and sharpen their skills in the Firing Range. With all weapons and items available to practice with, the area is intended as an isolated zone, free from all enemies. However, a puzzling new glitch is loading enemies into the same instance. Rather than dropping into their own private section in Apex Legends, Reddit user ‘Xechwill’ was shocked upon loading in and seeing another random player in their Firing Range. “Did I queue with you?” they asked, confused as to how a complete stranger managed to find their way into the same instance. The training facility in Apex is supposedly one instance shared among all active players, though everyone is supposed to load into a version of the area by themselves. These two players seemingly encountered a rare glitch as they happened upon the exact same Firing Range. “I don’t know what’s going on,” the random enemy amusingly joked as the two got acquainted, and Xechwill agreed they’d been left pretty confused by the training yard shock. While up to three friends are able to join into the same area to practice together, loading in with strangers is seemingly a new occurrence and perhaps it could be indicative of an upcoming feature. Currently, the only way to practice with various weapons is by shooting at dummies. Given that it’s now proven possible to join a Firing Range with randoms, maybe players will soon be able to practice their skills against other actual humans, similar to a pre-game lobby in the likes of Fortnite and even Warzone. Without comment from the developers at Respawn Entertainment, however, this could just be a one-off, freak occurrence that may never pop up again. As the Firing Range once played host to some of the most intricate easter eggs in the game, however, maybe the community will dig a little deeper and find a way to replicate the situation.

  • Apex Legends players still want Respawn to add customizable death box looting – Dexerto

Apex Legends players still want Respawn to add customizable death box looting Respawn EntertainmentSeason 10 of Apex Legends may have ushered in a host of changes to Respawn’s battle royale, but many players are asking the developer to implement an ask that’s now been years in the making — changing the game’s death box looting menu. There are plenty of things that Apex Legends fans have been petitioning developer Respawn to change since the game’s inception, but perhaps the most longstanding request of them all is the ability to further customize the death box looting experience. It may seem frivolous to some, but death box looting can quite literally make or break a match — when you’ve just wiped an enemy team, and you hear the footsteps of that dreaded third party bearing down on you, nothing is more important than getting that armor swap off in time. While the developer has made changes to the death boxes based on player feedback in the past, the community is once again calling for updates to the menu’s layout, or at the very least, for Respawn to give players a few different options to choose from. One Apex Legends fan took to Reddit shortly after the launch of Season 10 to voice yet another request for changes to the game’s death box menu, and even offered up their own alternative design to boot. In the updated version of the UI, icons for various items like armor, attachments, and consumables have been greatly reduced in size. Now, instead of taking up an entire row in the death box, several items can be squeezed into the same section, saving tons of space. Plenty of the poster’s fellow Legends seemed to agree with their take on the death box menu, and the post garnered over 13k upvotes from fellow players. Many responses voiced support for the change, noting how much this mock-up had reduced the menu’s visual clutter. Others took a more cautious approach to the changes. “I can see new players being confused, [but] if there can be a system to have both [menu options], then that would be dope,” one player suggested — similar to the existing in-game options for default or compact info prompts. Although some players weren’t completely sold on that exact design, there was near-universal agreement that it would be nice to at least have the option of toggling between the current, detailed breakdown and smaller, but less descriptive UI design. This is far from the first time that changes to the death box menu have been suggested, and the poster even referenced another Reddit thread that proposed a similar design change over two years ago. Only time will tell if Respawn decides to tweak the death box menu further in a future update, but the topic certainly remains quite high on the Apex Legends community wish list — even as players get into the swing of the game’s tenth season, Emergence.

  • Apex Legends players still want long-awaited Mirage change for self revives – Dexerto

Apex Legends players still want long-awaited Mirage change for self revives Respawn/EAApex Legends players have suggested the devs buff Mirage’s cloak so he can go invisible while using the self-revive shield. Apex Legends players are commonly demanding balance changes and new features from developers Respawn Entertainment. From requesting an “insane and unbalanced” 5-person squad mode to calling for a major shakeup to the care package weapons, the devs have a lot of suggestions to consider. Furthermore, the latest suggestion by the Apex community is to buff Mirage’s cloak so he can go invisible while self-reviving. Currently while reviving a teammate and using Respawn Beacons, Mirage will become invisible, allowing for stealthy revives. However, in a Reddit thread posted on January 8, Apex Legends player Unparalleled_Pilgrim suggested the devs buff Mirage’s cloak so he can also go invisible while using the gold knockdown shield. “I was always thinking that whenever Mirage goes for a revive he cloaks himself and you, but I was thinking wouldn’t it make Mirage more of a jack of all trades if he could cloak himself on self-res,” the player questioned. Other players chimed in on the thread, and some believe the buffs could make Mirage too powerful: “I was thinking about the same thing when it comes to Mirage getting revived, but it might be overpowered.” On the other hand, another player questioned why it isn’t one of Mirage’s abilities already and doesn’t think the change would be overpowered: “Yes, I don’t get why he doesn’t,” said one. “If he goes invisible while reviving teammates and using the Respawn Beacon then he should go invisible for self revive too. It’s pretty easy to hear so I don’t think it would be overpowered.” With Apex Legends Season 12 on the horizon with its expected February 8 release, it’s likely we won’t see any changes to Mirage’s kit until then if the devs do decide to take the suggestion on board.

  • Apex Legends players still want highly requested loot change to remove pointless item – Dexerto

Apex Legends players still want highly requested loot change to remove pointless item Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are still hoping that Respawn Entertainment make a long-awaited change to looting that they’ve been asking for since the battle royale first launched. It’s been almost five years since Apex Legends first launched and changed the battle royale with it’s unique formula that focuses on character abilities as well as gun skills and, well, plenty of luck. Over those five years, Respawn have made plenty of changes to the game – some that have been widely accepted by the community and, of course, some that haven’t down all that well too. There are also some changes that players have been waiting pretty much since day one for as well. They’ve recently called for a new pistol and shotgun to be added – seeing as neither weapon type has ever had a new addition – but also still want a simple looting change. Apex Legends fans want starter storage to finally be increased That’s right, if you’ve ever dropped into a game of Apex and wondered why the white backpack isn’t a standard thing to drop with, well, you’re not alone. There are plenty of players who are tired of still running around to find such a basic item. They want Respawn to make it a standard thing, and they’re reigniting calls for that change to be made. “I think it’s time they remove the white backpack from the item pool and make it a spawn item, it’s not worth a spot with the amount of ground items the game currently have,” urged one fan. “I agree 100%,” added another player. “Wouldn’t even need it to be an item, just remove it and up default storage space by 2. Anything to clear up loot and pave the way for a new weapon,” another suggested. “It’s just annoying not being able to find one at the beginning of the game,” another complained. Some players also disagreed with the idea, suggesting that it would lead to some just wanting everyone to start out with blue level equipment anyway. Respawn have, in the past, curtailed to similar calls as they made changes to starting armor in previous seasons. Though, who knows if they’ll listen again this time around.

  • Apex Legends players still desperately want reactive character skins – Dexerto

Apex Legends players still desperately want reactive character skins Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has plenty of eye-popping cosmetics already, but players are still desperate for Respawn to take their reactive weapon camo concept and bring it to the game’s character skins as well. All the way back in Season 1, Apex Legends developer Respawn introduced reactive weapon skins — weapon camos that changed appearance based on the number of kills you notched in each game. Since then, these coveted cosmetics have remained some of the most sought-after in the game, and with each new reactive skin being locked behind that season’s final battle pass level, the grind to unlock them is no joke either. While these shapeshifting skins are motivation enough for many players to grind out their battle passes, some Apex Legends fans want to see Respawn take the idea even further by introducing reactive character skins as well — and this isn’t the first time they’ve asked for this, either. Apex Legends players still want reactive character skins In a post on the Apex Legends subreddit, one player by the name of ‘u/seven920805’ reignited the conversation around reactive character skins, and even shared their own take on what one might look like. The short video clip showed off an animated Wraith skin-changing outfit, shifting from a combination of pearly white and dark grey to a black and crimson alternative. Fans were quick to eat up the idea of reactive characters skins in Apex Legends. “This is so satisfying,” one player replied. “Not to be mean,” another remarked, “but this is [a] cosmetic I would actually pay for.” Others took the poster’s idea even further, suggesting ways in which the reactive skins might function. “When you’re the kill leader it turns red, if you’re the champ, yellow,” one player suggested. “With Evo armor becoming a mainstay, I could totally see them making ‘dynamic skins’ that change based on your armor level,” a second fan speculated. Despite the positive reception, this isn’t the first time that the idea of reactive character skins has been suggested. In fact, players have been calling for this type of cosmetic to be added since a few months after the game’s launch. It remains to be seen whether or not Respawn will incorporate this idea into Apex, but the same demand that the community had two years ago still seems to be hanging around, with players as hyped as ever around the idea of reactive character skins.

  • Apex Legends players think they’ve spotted Loba’s first in-game teaser – Dexerto

Apex Legends players think they’ve spotted Loba’s first in-game teaser Respawn EntertainmentEagle-eyed Apex Legends players may have spotted the first signs another character may soon be arriving in the battle royale in Season 4, after what looked like a wolf briefly ran across the new Planet Harvester. Apex players have been overloaded with new content since Season 4 Assimilation dropped, from deadly new legend Revenant, to a new sniper rifle, and a revamped World’s Edge map split apart by a towering combine engine. That doesn’t mean diehard fans haven’t kept their eyes peeled for more potential teasers, especially after Respawn seemed to have tucked a potential first-look at Loba into Season 4’s trailer. Now, they may have just found one. Eagle-eyed players spot a wolf in World’s Edge The short in-game clip, captured ironically enough by Reddit user SheeplessWolf and shared on February 11, appears to show a dog or wolf running along one of the upper platforms in Season 4’s new locale, the Planet Harvester. SheeplessWolf even shared a second version of the same clip, slowed down, and while it’s difficult to depict exactly what the blurred shape is, it certainly looks to be some kind of wolf bounding along. After a split second, it disappears. The eagle-eyed player shared their clip to Reddit as quickly as possible, adding that they “swear to god saw a dog running around.” The Apex player also added when they went to investigate, they only found “a solo Bangalore hiding.” Is it actually a wolf, or just a visual bug? Last time players believed they had discovered an in-game teaser, it turned out to just be a bug in the game code firing off, and was disproven by popular data miner That1MiningGuy. This time around, he’s not so sure it’s fake. At first, the code-digging player seemed to believe it was another case of the invisibility glitch that has plagued Apex since the season update. After further digging, however, it appears he may have changed his mind. “WTF,” T1MG began. “I slowed down the only zoomed-in part even more, and I’m pretty sure that’s not a Wraith or a Revenant crouch-walking. With all the invisible bugs going around [though], it’s too tough to tell with that video if it’s real.” https://twitter.com/That1MiningGuy/status/1227378990551371776 The ‘wolf’ may not only be appearing at Planet Harvester Other Apex players have also embraced what appears to be a Loba/Rosie teaser. In the original clip thread, some even revealed what appeared to be a wolf appearance wasn’t a one-off occurrence. Others reported noises too. ‘DolceAndHavana’ admitted they had been “hearing dogs in the game lately,” including “barks, growls, and howls from time to time,” and ‘AwfullyUber’ agreed. The second user added they had regularly heard the noises at Train Yard “every single time I’m there.” Some fans even went so far as to imagine Loba may be a grown-up version of Rosie from the trailer, complete with a “Simulacrum Wolf companion she can sick on players,” which players have just started seeing in-game. What do we already know about Loba/Rosie? Well, for a start, there’s a good chance we were just introduced to the wolf-themed legend in the blood-soaked Revenant trailer, with many buying into the theory the daughter of the murdered thief will become the new fighter. Before Revenant pulls off his murder, we see the young girl and her family—revealed to be part of a wealthy Portuguese crime group. Her father’s last living act is to give her a silver wolf head, which can be translated to the feminine noun ‘loba’ in Portuguese, the language the family can be heard speaking. This potential backstory ties into the leaked abilities we’ve already seen through data mining, which include “Burglar’s Best Friend,” “Supply for Demand,” “Black Market Boutique,” and “Eye for Quality.” All of them are crime-themed. Finally, Respawn revealed on January 29 that the Season 4 trailer would connect the “murder of James ‘The Forge’ McCormick with a 25-year unsolved cold case.” The murder of a young Rosie’s thief parents, maybe? While many expected to see the recently-killed Forge return from the dead to join the legends roster if we had a second hero enter the Apex Games in Season 4, the possible appearance of these wolves may herald a different path. For now, keep your eyes peeled for more canine appearances at the Planet Harvester, and across World’s Edge — until Respawn weigh in on the mysterious shadowy figures, it could well be the first teaser for Loba’s arrival.

  • Apex Legends players split over “worthless” stickers coming in Season 15 – Dexerto

Apex Legends players split over “worthless” stickers coming in Season 15 Respawn EntertainmentStickers are the headline new cosmetic item coming to Apex Legends in Season 15, and they’re already causing a stir among the community, despite not even being available yet. Apex Legends is a free-to-play game, but a very successful one, with EA confirming it is on its way to generating $2 billion in revenue. Of course, the majority of this revenue is driven through in-game purchases of Apex coins, which can be used to buy packs, skins, emotes and more. Adding to the pool of cosmetic items will be stickers, starting with Season 15 on November 1. While players often groan at the sight of more monetized content, stickers are causing more of a fuss than normal. Apex players criticize new sticker items The primary concern is that these items will not be very desirable, as they are only visible on healing items, rather than on weapons or characters, and therefore will just be ‘filler’ for Apex packs. This criticism has previously been levied against other cosmetics, such as holo-sprays, which players were similarly dismissive of when first added. On the game’s subreddit, a big conversation is taking place over stickers. The original post simply asks, “I have one question, why?” – to which one of the top responses reads “To fill the lootbox rewards with worthless garbage, why else?” Another player said, “Quite possibly the worst, most anti-interesting thing I have ever seen added to a video game. I honestly cannot think of anything less interesting than adding a sticker to my Shield Battery.” On Twitter, a Respawn developer, proud of their work on the implementation of stickers, deleted their post, citing the vitriol and “toxicity” that had come their way. Not everyone was so critical, however. One user responded, “I think it’s pretty cool, I hope they stay as rares or commons though.” It appears from the screenshots however, that stickers will be ‘epic’ rarity. Another player argued, “This may be an unpopular opinion, but I’d rather have a purple sticker, holospray or emote rather than a purple skin or weapon camo.” For now, we’ll simply have to wait until Season 15 begins to see the full implementation of stickers, and see if players change their minds once in-game.

  • Apex Legends players split over Season 19’s Care Package Wingman – Dexerto

Apex Legends players split over Season 19’s Care Package Wingman Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans are split over the Wingman’s appearance in Care Packages during Season 19, with some calling it too strong while others think it’s a blast to use. Apex Legends Season 19 brought a bunch of changes to the battle royale which included some interesting changes to a variety of guns. Alongside changes to the Bocek Bow, Charge Rifle, and 30-30 Repeater, the L-Star exited the Care Package while the fan-favorite Wingman took its place in Season 19. This hard-to-master pistol was already a force to be reckoned with in capable hands, and now its Care Package appearance has the community split on whether it should come back to the ground loot pool. Apex Legends fans debate Season 19’s Wingman A post on the Apex Legends subreddit sparked a discussion among the community after one player asked, “So how are we feeling about the Care Package Wingman?” The OP explained that while they missed it being part of the normal ground pool loot, “The thing is a beast right now.” However, they clarified that they would rather see it outside of the Care Package like in past seasons. Fans were split on which iteration of the gun they preferred, with many players expressing just how much fun the Care Package version is to use. “It’s insanely OP and insanely fun to use. I pick it up every time I can,” said one fan, while another said, “Agreed. There is some risk going for care packages and the wingman takes some skill to use, so I don’t have a problem with how strong it is right now.” However, others felt the Care Package Wingman felt a bit too strong. “I 3 tapped a guy with red shields the other day. I felt bad for the guy. It’s a bit much.” Some fans argued that the Wingman being in the Care Package brings up a problem for Season 19’s ground loot. “It’s making finding purple and gold sniper mags on the ground feel useless,” argued one player. Another fan said, “Although I think it’s better to have it on the ground because now you only have RE-45 and 2020 for pistol options which no one picks up now that R99 and Alternator is back to ground loot.” Considering Respawn hardly ever adjusts Care Package weapons mid-season it’s likely the Wingman will stay off the ground for the remainder of Season 19. Until then, players should try their luck with this insanely strong hand cannon.

  • Apex Legends players split over #NoApexAugust boycott for Season 14 – Dexerto

Apex Legends players split over #NoApexAugust boycott for Season 14 Respawn/EAAhead of Season 14, some Apex Legends players are participating in the #NoApexAugust boycott over issues with the battle royale. Though, not everyone is sold on the idea. With Apex Legends Season 14: Hunted on the horizon, Respawn Entertainment will be looking to clean up a number of the overarching issues that have plagued the battle royale for a number of months. These issues include a seemingly increasing number of cheaters with aim bots, hackers being able to teleport players out of matches, hit registration not working, and problems with progressing the battle pass. As a result, some players have already committed to not playing the battle royale until a new update comes out and addresses many, if not all, of these issues. However, some are going a bit further than that. #NoApexAugust boycott starts ahead of Season 14 That’s right, some players are hopping aboard a new protest movement that they’re calling #NoApexAugust where, as the name suggests, they won’t play the battle royale for an entire month. “There are countless fun and creative video games out there, do yourself a favor and leave Apex for a month. Find something new and exciting to play, variety is the spice of life,” one Apex fan account tweeted, garnering a fair bit of support. “Don’t play, don’t watch streams,” another fan added. “This is going to be a rough month, but it’s for the best,” commented another player. Naturally, some players are pretty skeptical about the boycott having any impact, especially as the new season launches on August 9th. “MFs tweeting out #NoApexAugust like they aren’t going to get on the game on August 9th to try the new legend, get back to Skull Town and grind out the levels,” replied SomeoneWhoLeaks. “#NoApexAugust isn’t going to work if everyone just hops back on after month. You gotta stop playing completely until the issues are fixed,” noted another player. When a new season is released, Apex’s player count typically skyrockets, so it’ll be difficult to see if the boycott has an impact until then. There are plenty of photos and videos across social media of players uninstalling the battle royale, but we’ll have to wait and see how things shake out.

  • Apex Legends players split over Newcastle’s strength despite 1% pick rate – Dexerto

Apex Legends players split over Newcastle’s strength despite 1% pick rate Electronic ArtsDespite a very low pick rate, several Apex Legends players have made it known that the player base may be “sleeping on” a hardly-used fighter. Apex players tend to gravitate towards popular figures like Pathfinder and Horizon, the latter of whom now has a skin that’s glitchy to say the least. On the other hand, many of Apex Legends’ characters are trapped in relative obscurity. However, that hasn’t stopped some from having success with some of these less popular characters in the game like Crypto & Rampart. Quite a few players have lamented Newcastle’s low pickrate as they win games with the heavily “slept-on” Legend. Despite him being the least-used character in the game, he’s got a place in the right hands. Apex Legends laud Newcastle’s abilities On Reddit, several players have highlighted Newcastle’s strength in Apex Legends, despite a lowly 1% pick rate that makes him one of the least-popular characters in the game. A user by the name of u/anidevv managed to take home a W with Newcastle thanks to effective use of his abilities and some well-placed shots. Newcastle does have strength in Apex Legends thanks to its Fortified ability, one that reduces incoming damage by 15%. His Mobile Shield can also act as protection for both the character and teammates. However, others on Reddit did highlights his flaws and shed some light on why Newcastle isn’t as good as the video indicates. Multiple players commented that part of the reason why Newcastle pushed that individual to victory was, in part, because of his lowly pick rate. Since very few actually use him, Newcastle can be tough to take down should players not be familiar with his abilities. Another noted that he’s just “a bullet sponge” and too easy to hit, with one player describing him as a “fridge”. As mentioned earlier, Newcastle has a very low pick rate. The Apex character’s 1.2% pick rate (h/t Apex Legends Status) sits as the lowest one of the bunch, just a shade less than Crypto’s 1.3%. But if used properly, that footage is proof that Newcastle can carry his team in Apex Legends.

  • Apex Legends players split over “crazy” Season 20 Ring spawns – Dexerto

Apex Legends players split over “crazy” Season 20 Ring spawns Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have started a debate over whether or not Season 20’s “crazy” Ring spawns are fun to play or not. Apex Legends Season 20 content is well underway and players have been enjoying the changes that developer Respawn Entertainment has introduced to the battle royale. Changes like the new Legend Upgrade system and the Replicator rework have overhauled big parts of the gameplay and have been relatively well-received by the player base. However, it seems some Apex Legends fans are split over the “crazy” Ring location spawns that have populated many Season 20 matches. Apex Legends fans divided over Season 20 Ring spawns A post on the Apex Legends subreddit sparked a discussion among fans after one player made a post simply titled, “Crazy rings this season.” The OP included a clip that showed them looking at a Ring Console on Storm Point. It revealed the Final Ring location would be near Eco HQ. Unfortunately for some players, half of the final Ring was also covering the side of a cliff, severely limiting the final area that the remaining squads could play in. Other players took to the comments to share their own grievances with the Ring location spawns in Season 20. “They really are pretty unpredictable towards end game the last couple seasons honestly,” said one player, while another joked, “So you’re telling me that you don’t like half the zone being unplayable?” However, some fans thought the final Ring location shown in the OP’s video would make for an exciting endgame. “Honestly that’s an awesome pair of Rings,” said one fan. “The natural importance it put on that bottleneck to the east was completely validated by the next Ring.” Additionally, some claimed that many of these limiting Rings seemed to be appearing on Storm Point more than any other map in rotation. Developer Respawn has tweaked Ring spawns various times throughout Apex Legends’ lifespan, so it may be time to take another look in Season 20.

  • Apex Legends players split after TikTok calls for huge Armor nerfs – Dexerto

Apex Legends players split after TikTok calls for huge Armor nerfs Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends community is split, after a TikTok suggesting changes to the armor system has divided players. We’re just around the corner from the release of Season 14 of Apex Legends and it’s quite a different game from what it once was. Since the game’s release three years ago, for better or worse we’ve seen a slew of changes, such as the addition of new maps and a ton of new Legends. One area that’s been largely overlooked is the armor system – which hasn’t had many changes since the game’s launch. But, that’s set to change in the next season, as the devs have finally decided to remove self-revive completely. However, one player has suggested an entirely different change to shields, and it’s got the community torn. A thread in the ApexUniversity Reddit on August 6 shared a TikTok, in which a player suggested for armor to be changed in a different way instead of changing the knockdown shield. “Apex hot take, pro players complain about the knockdown, but what really should be removed is armor swaps,” the player said. “Why would armor be full on a dead eneme,y when the armor was depleted in the process of the neemy dying. It’s not about skill anymore, it’s about who can armor swap the fastest.” Other fans in the thread agreed that the player has a valid point when it comes to shields, but they’re not exactly sold on the idea. “Not going to lie, it’s a valid point but in a game like Apex where 3rd party is expected from the start, middle, and end of a fight, shield swapping is essential,” said one. “Removing armor swapping would just make dealing with 3rd parties so much harder, terrible take,” another added. On the other hand, one player somewhat agreed with the suggested idea, admitting that shield swapping shouldn’t give you full armor. “Even tho fast armor swaps are indeed a skill, it’s not a good mechanic. I agree that armor swaps should not give you full armor, it makes surviving third parties a matter of whether or not the previous enemy was equipped properly,” they said. With Season 14 set for release on August 9, it’s unlikely we’ll see any changes like these anytime soon. But, as always the devs keep an open mind when it comes to community suggestions, so it could come to fruition in the future.

  • Apex Legends players speculate Storm Point will be ‘blown apart’ in Season 18 – Dexerto

Apex Legends players speculate Storm Point will be ‘blown apart’ in Season 18 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are speculating that the Storm Point map is going to be blown apart by severe weather in Season 18 thanks to clues scattered around the map. Apex Legends fans know that almost every new season brings changes to some of the returning battle royale maps. For example, Olympus received some major map changes in Season 12 while Kings Canyon received similar treatment in Season 14. While the Storm Point map didn’t receive an overhaul to the same degree, it did see some tweaks and changes in Season 13, with new POIs and the addition of IMC armories. However, it seems Storm Point may just be the next map to get an overhaul if clues spotted around the map by eagle-eyed players are any indication. Apex Legends players spot Storm Point map change clues Content creator and Apex Legends fan, Grrted posted screenshots on Twitter of these map teasers for the community. The first screenshot came on July 27, 2023, and showed some seriously bad weather off the coast of the Fish Farms POI. The image showed a terrifying mass of tornadoes tearing through an island across the ocean, with some seriously gnarly-looking clouds overhead. Boom half the map flooded and destroyed and they make it smaller and less boring — 🌴 Jonathan 🌴 (@jnthndrn64) July 29, 2023 Players in the replies began speculating what the new iteration of the tropical map would look like, with some hoping the storm would decrease the overall size. “Boom half the map flooded and destroyed and they make it smaller and less boring.” Many fans are often frustrated by the slower pace of matches that take place on Storm Point thanks to its larger overall size and the fact that it only contains one Jump Tower. If Storm Point would be something like Hard Rain from Left 4 Dead 2, then it’s gonna be interesting. — SmuttyDaria (@DariaSmutty) July 30, 2023 Another fan hoped prominent weather effects would be added to spice up gameplay. “If Storm Point would be something like Hard Rain from Left 4 Dead 2, then it’s gonna be interesting.” While it remains to be seen just what this massive storm has in store for Storm Point, it’s clear the map is in for a boatload of bad weather in the near future.

  • Apex Legends players slam ‘toxic’ Character Select screen flashes – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam ‘toxic’ Character Select screen flashes Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legend Character Select Screen has a blinding flash animation that people can use to troll players and the community wants Respawn to tone down the effect. Before hopping into a match, Apex teams need to choose their comps. Scrolling through the picks gives off a quick flash to introduce the Legend you’re currently spectating. The brief effect has been in the game for a long time and it’s hardly noticeable until someone is doing it to get a rise out of their own teammates. “Usually the ones who do this are terrible teammates/toxic,” one person said. “It’s a good indication you’re in for a rough game.” Players who wouldn’t describe themselves as being particularly photosensitive were even bothered by the flashes. “Could this flashing screen be removed?” user ‘Juan52’ said. “I’m in no way epileptic but this still hurts when someone decides to do it.” “I’m not photosensitive but after I had started having seizures,” another person continued. “Flashing lights hurt my eyes for whatever reasons, or at least made it more sensitive. Which is why I absolutely hate when people start spam picking/unpicking legends.” Read more: Apex Legends Storm Point Wildlife guide – People are calling for Respawn to tone down the bright transition in the Apex Legends’ Character Select screen to avoid any potential harm. Respawn Entertainment have addressed bright effects in Apex Legends before. There used to be an issue with the muzzle flash animations for most of the guns in the battle royale. The problem persisted until the developers issued sweeping changes to Apex’s arsenal in Season 4 that combated the issue. Apex Legends players are hoping something similar could happen again with the flashes in the Character Select screen in a future update.

  • Apex Legends players slam “shameless” Celestial Sunrise collection event reward – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam “shameless” Celestial Sunrise collection event reward Respawn EntertainmentThe Celestial Sunrise collection event’s final reward has been revealed, and Apex Legends players aren’t impressed with the “shameless” Peacekeeper skin players get for buying out the entire event. The price players are expected to pay to finish out a collection event is a steep one. These events typically come with 24 items in total, making the cost of getting everything via chests around $160 USD. Considering the most you can spend on Apex coins at once is $100, players will have to purchase multiple currency packs to buy out the event. However, the 24 items players get for completing the event paired with highly sought after heirlooms make these events worth the cost for many Apex Legends fans. The upcoming Celestial Sunrise collection event’s reward is a reactive Peacekeeper skin instead of a shiny new heirloom, one that closely mirrors a pre-existing battle pass skin. Players aren’t too happy with the asking price for the skin, calling it a “shameless” event reward. Apex Legends Celestial Sunrise collection event causes backlash Collection events have been a massive part of Apex Legends’ content cycle. On top of bringing themed skins that celebrate the event, they often come with Limited-Time game modes and other fresh content that brings something for everyone to enjoy. And, while the price of getting your hands on something like an heirloom is steep, it’s worth it in the eyes of many players. Especially if it’s for one of your favorite legends. But the new Reactive Peacekeeper skin hasn’t seen the same level of satisfaction from players, leading many to point out that it’s very similar to a previous battle pass reward while arguing that it isn’t worth the asking price. For comparison’s sake, here’s the original Season 3 battle pass skin, ‘Frostbite’, next to the new weapon skin. They have the same ironsights and frame, and players have assumed it’ll have the same 3-tiered progression as the Frostbite skin where more and more spikes get added to the weapon as you get kills. Even if it isn’t a direct recolor, the two skins are very close visually. Reddit wasn’t kind to this announcement, with players immediately recognizing the skin from Apex Legends’ early days. Reddit user fairlyhurtfoyer summed up Apex players’ frustrations with monetization with a comment discussing the progression of collection event rewards. “First it was heirlooms for $160. Expensive, but fair enough, those are unique items for each legend. Then, we got ‘progressive’ legend skins sold as mythics. Also $160, and another way for Respawn to expand and have more CE every season. There was more backlash. So now, naturally, we get a recolor of a reactive Peacekeeper skin that was given out in the Battle Pass many seasons ago (S3).” This user also mentioned that they wouldn’t be surprised to see heirloom recolors at this point, followed by another redditor discussing the rumors that a Wraith heirloom recolor is up next. The comments on the Celestial Sunrise megathread are filled with users complaining about the current state of the game, whether it be complaints about server issues or frustration with the event itself. One user went as far as calling Respawn’s upcoming event “blatantly shameless”.

  • Apex Legends players slam Season 17 Ranked as Master rank is overflowing – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam Season 17 Ranked as Master rank is overflowing RespawnThe Apex Legends News Twitter account has revealed the ranked distribution of Apex Legends in Season 17, which the players immediately shunned for being so skewed towards the “Master” rank. Apex Legends has seen its share of scrutiny over the course of 2023, with ImperialHal saying that the game is in the “worst state” that it has ever been at the beginning of June. The big factor contributing to players criticizing the game right now is Apex Legend’s ranked system which went through many iterations since the game launched. Its current iteration drew the player base’s ire as Apex Legends pro, Sweet, has already shown that it’s possible to gain the Predator rank without killing anyone. After his experiment, the game saw a spike in players at all ranks who have taken inspiration and are resorting to abandoning their team and camping on their own, hoping to survive as long as possible without interacting with other players in order to reach high ranks faster in Apex Legends Season 17. Apex players react to Season 17 rank distribution Apex Legends News tweeted out the current rank distribution based on the 4 million player sample and it’s very much skewed towards the second-highest rank in the game which is baffling to many fans. “This ranked system is just plain wrong,” said Shiv, content creator for Luminosity Gaming. When asked “Is it really” by a reply, he further added: “When hardstuck plastic rank skill level players can literally AFK their way to master. YEAH, I THINK THE RANKED SYSTEM IS DOGS**T.” “Zero communication or even any acknowledgment from [developers] is the wild part. Like there’s no way they are looking over the data and being like ‘Yeah this is fine’,” reads another reply. Balancing a ranked system in a battle royal game cannot be easy, but if Respawn Entertainment doesn’t act quickly Apex Legends‘ reputation will continue to spiral and the game will lose players by the day.

  • Apex Legends players slam Season 11’s “trash” footstep audio – Dexerto

Apex Legends players slam Season 11’s “trash” footstep audio Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling on Respawn to add major improvements to the game’s footstep audio, with plenty saying it has become more difficult to decipher enemy movements in Season 11. Audio has long been a hot topic in the Apex Legends community. Almost all players will know the pain of being ambushed by an enemy Gibraltar, despite all the shortcomings the gentle giant should possess in the art of subtlety. However, since the launch of the highly anticipated Season 11 on November 2, many players have claimed that footstep audio is more inconsistent than ever; on occasions simply failing to cue enemies sprinting towards players. Redditor ‘Erydrim‘ highlighted the issues in a clip showing them being eliminated by an approaching enemy, despite receiving no audio cues to indicate an opponent was sprinting towards them. They commented that they have noticed a “severe” increase in the footstep audio bug – often meaning they receive no enemy footstep audio whatsoever. Another player echoed their comments, saying: “I have had so many people run up on me and my other members of my squad this season with zero audio… I have also noticed vertical audio in this season particularly is trash. People will be below and sound right beside me.” Another Redditor, ‘heavylifted‘ wrote that footstep audio is as bad as it has ever been in Apex. They said: “I’ve had had far too many situations where enemies footsteps just can’t be heard, it’s worse than usual for me. All the streamers I watch seem to have the same thing. I’ve killed guys and I felt bad because I know they didn’t hear me run up at all.” As of the time of writing, Respawn have not commented on the issues with sound in Season 11. They may want to make adjustments though, particularly with player suggestions that it has become worse since Season 11 dropped.
