Apex Legends players furious again over “smurf problem” in Ranked Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have once again raised their opinions that the smurfing issue in the game’s various Ranked modes is getting out of hand. Smurfing is a widespread problem in the online gaming community and players have claimed the problem has affected games like Apex Legends and Valorant for years now. For Apex Legends specifically, the community has called on both EA and Respawn to take steps to mitigate the game’s smurfing problem ahead of Season 15. Unfortunately, it seems some players are still encountering smurfed in Ranked modes, and players are getting fed up with the lack of changes. Apex Legends players fed up with smurfing problem A post on the Apex Legends subreddit once again sparked a conversation in the community about smurfing issues persisting in Season 15. For those who may not be familiar with the term smurfing, it’s essentially when a player who is already high-ranked in an online game creates a new account starting at a low level and gets put into games with other new or low-level players for an easier time. A user named flippity_floppity18 made a post titled, “This game has a serious smurf problem especially in ranked arenas.” The post sparked a discussion with other players joining in to share they experiences with smurfs as well as changes to mitigate the issue. “My biggest problem with smurfing, is when I play with my friends who are earnestly trying to climb to platinum, and we get w-keyed way outside the circle, into the storm by a 3 stack of new accounts with default banners, 3k badges, and rolling us in 10 seconds. It just ruins the flow of the game and the experience,” said one fan, who claimed they encountered smurf accounts “every other game.” The original poster shared a suggestion on how Respawn could fix the issue and said, “They need to do introduce a system so that you only get put with people who are similar level and recent performance so smurfs get put with smurfs they have no fun so they quit.” Of course, others pushed back on the suggestion and noted that it’s quite difficult for a developer to quantify skill in a numerical value for matchmaking purposes. “….It’s not as simple as these people are trying to make it out to be to create a numerical value for skill. We as players can look at another player and say ‘they are good’ the game can’t unless we teach it. Which isn’t as easy,” noted one fan. While any fan of competitive multiplayer games will tell you smurfing is a frustrating issue to deal with, it’s also frustrating to stamp out on the development side. Hopefully, developers like Respawn can take strides to mitigate smurf accounts in the future.

Apex Legends players furious after Legend Token cosmetics disappear from store – Dexerto
Apex Legends players furious after Legend Token cosmetics disappear from store Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players call for Respawn to bring more cosmetics to the store that players can buy with the game’s free in-game currency. Like any modern free-to-play live-service game, Apex Legends relies on cosmetic purchases to generate revenue. Though many of the game’s cosmetics can be purchased with Apex Coins — the game’s premium currency — some skin recolors can be bought with the game’s free currency, Legend Tokens. However, some players have found that these Legend Token cosmetics are showing up in the game’s tore less frequently and are not happy about the change. Apex Legends players demand Legend Token cosmetics return A post on the Apex Legends subreddit gained traction among the community after one fan pointed out that they noticed that Legend Token cosmetics had shown up in the store much less frequently than before. For those who may now know, Legend Tokens primary use to unlock new Legends from the game’s roster. Though, the ‘Limited-Time’ category of the store would sometimes feature recolored cosmetics that players could spend Legend Tokens on. To some players’ dismay, these cosmetics seem to be appearing in the store less and less. One user expressed their frustration at the store’s current layout, saying: “Yeah I just noticed this… Currently, there are three separate shops. Not one of them has items that can be purchased with in-game earned Tokens.” Another explained their perspective of the situation as a long-time player. “Absolutely. I have 409k [Tokens] as a day 1 player. Maybe once every 6 weeks I get to buy a recolor. I could stop playing the game and still buy every legend for like 5 years lol.” Many have an abundance of Legend Tokens at their disposal with very little to spend them on, due to the time between seasons with only one new Legend to purchase at a time. Now that Apex’s level cap has increased, dedicated fans are only going to gather up more and more Tokens that they can’t frequently spend. The community suggested various solutions to the problem, such as having a weekly store rotation dedicated solely to recolors so players could spend their Tokens. Others suggested merging Tokens and Crafting Metals together or even offering the option to convert Tokens to Apex Coins. While it’s unlikely that Respawn will implement drastic changes to the game’s currency system, it is clear players are looking for more meaningful ways to sure Legend Tokens.

Apex Legends players furious after being “robbed” by Apex Packs with missing items – Dexerto
Apex Legends players furious after being “robbed” by Apex Packs with missing items Respawn EntertainmentWhile the hype for Apex Legends Season 10 is nearing a fever-pitch in the final week before release, some players have been left with a bad taste in their mouths heading into the new season after being “robbed” by glitched Apex Packs. Apex Legends Season 10 is fast approaching its release date of August 3. Despite the anticipation for Season 10‘s launch, however, players have plenty of concerns heading into Emergence, such as worries about server stability and the power level of the game’s new Legend: Seer. Now, in the final days of Season 9, some Apex Legends fans are being hit with a mysterious bug involving their Apex Packs (the primary source of acquiring cosmetics and crafting materials in-game), and are voicing concerns over losing out on their hard-earned items. Reports of the bug first began to circulate during the final week of Season 9, when players began sharing their experiences with bugged Apex Packs that only gave them two new items or sets of crafting materials instead of the standard three items per-pack. One player shared a video on Reddit of a freshly opened pack that gave them two sets of crafting materials, but had nothing in the last item slot — meaning a third of the contents were missing. “Why did this happen? Can I please get my stuff?” they asked. While some players questioned whether the loading screen had glitched, and a new item or set of materials had appeared in the player’s inventory, the poster was adamant that they had been slighted: ” I don’t care if it wasn’t [a high-rarity item], I still want the stuff I paid for.” Others reported running into the same issue, but coupled with a server error being fed to them by the game that hinted at the reason behind these missing items. It appeared the rewards they were supposed to receive did exist, but weren’t present in the game — yet. One fan shared an image of the error message, which read “Some items in the Apex Pack have not been authored in the game yet.” The poster then speculated on the cause of the glitch: “Did I just get an unfinished skin or what?” Players speculated in the comments that the bug could involve items coming to the game in Season 10, like cosmetics for Seer and the game’s new Rampage LMG — both being added in Emergence. “Maybe the game is trying to give [you] Seer’s stuff, but since Seer isn’t in the game, it’s f**king up?” one reply read. Despite the potential explanation, other fans didn’t feel it justified the missing items: “I felt robbed [that] I only got 2 items in the [bugged] packs,” another player replied. Respawn pushes out fix for bugged Apex Packs After reports of the glitched Apex Packs began building up steam on social media, Respawn was quick to jump in and let the community know they were aware of the issue and investigating potential resolutions. Fortunately, that resolution came only a few hours later, and Respawn confirmed that a fix had been pushed out to address the glitch. They also revealed the source of the bug was not related to Season 10 items, but “was caused by a new Lifeline tracker configured to drop in Apex Packs too early.” P.S. Heirloom shards don’t appear to have been affected by this issue, despite widely-circulating images implying otherwise. Keep it real, Legends. — Respawn (@Respawn) July 31, 2021 Respawn will also compensate fans for their troubles, and confirmed that “affected players will be granted a make-good pack and will find the tracker in their inventory after the 10.0 update.” The dev also specified that, despite some reports, Heirloom shards seem to have been unaffected by the bug. Thanks to Respawn’s quick resolution, you won’t need to hold off on redeeming your Apex Packs after all. Feel free to cash in on any packs you receive before Season 10 kicks off on August 3, as you won’t be able to acquire any unreleased skins after all.

Apex Legends players frustrated with “unrewarding” anniversary event rewards – Dexerto
Apex Legends players frustrated with “unrewarding” anniversary event rewards Respawn/EAApex Legends players have been left pretty frustrated by the rewards in the third-anniversary event, especially with the amount of “filler” being used. In the three years since Apex Legends was first launched, Respawn Entertainment have been celebrating the battle royale’s anniversary with events including new cosmetics, updates, and more. That’s been the same story in Season 12: Defiance, with the third-anniversary event bringing in a boatload of new skins, challenges, and the pretty divisive Prestige cosmetics. Players have also been given a handful of free Apex packs as well, though, they are pretty annoyed by what they perceive to be too many “filler” rewards from Respawn, especially in the form of holosprays. Plenty of players have taken to social media to voice their frustrations with the rewards and cosmetics in the anniversary event, both coming from free packs and those that they’ve paid for. “Holosprays should not be part of a collection event. Absolutely no one wants them and getting them from the free event tracker is so unrewarding,” stated SkinniestPhallus, gaining plenty of support from their fellow Redditors. “Its sole purpose is just to fill up the packs so people would get more sh**ty items forcing them to roll more packs,” claimed another, while others widened the net to include other items. “Gun charms need to go too, IMO. One of the most useless things ever created,” added another player. Another argued that the rarities of some items should be tweaked to alleviate some of the issues. “All charms, holosprays, trackers, banners, and voice lines should only be considered either white or blue rarity and never purple or gold,” they said. Obviously, not everyone is against holosprays and regularly use them in-game to flex on enemies, but plenty do want to see change. Though, that lies with Respawn and Respawn only.

Apex Legends players frustrated with “stupid” Buster Sword in Final Fantasy Takeover – Dexerto
Apex Legends players frustrated with “stupid” Buster Sword in Final Fantasy Takeover RespawnSome Apex Legends fans are fed up with playing against the “broken” Buster Sword weapon present in the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Takeover event. Apex Legends’ Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth event features a Takeover event that replaces the normal Trios mode with a modified version of the game mode. In this Takeover mode, players can equip different Materia Hop-Ups and find the Legendary Buster Sword around the map, which gives fans crazy options in combat. However, after nearly two weeks it seems many players have had their fill of the Buster Sword, with many calling the weapon “broken” in the Takeover mode. Apex Legends fans tired of “broken” Buster Sword A post on the Apex Legends subreddit gained traction after one player showed an absurd play from an enemy with a Buster Sword. The OP attached a video, which showed two players in the Firing Range, with one trying to snipe a Revenant player holding a Buster Sword in the distance. Thinking they had the advantage against the close-range weapon, the player continued taking pot shots before the Revenant player unleashed their Ult. However, the Revenant also activated the Buster Sword’s Limit Break ability, which allowed them to spam their Dash ability and essentially fly toward the player’s location. In no time flat, the OP was finished. Many fans were surprised at what the Revenant was able to pull off, with many calling it noting how it is unfun to play against. “It’s stupid and not fun at all. Most of my games today have ended in someone with a sword (or a full squad with swords) appearing on me out of nowhere…” Still, some pushed back and argued the Buster Sword is meant to be strong. “Nobody is arguing that it’s balanced. It’s supposed to be stupid and fun. Pick up the sword and do a bunch of dumb sh*t you normally wouldn’t do.” While many of the comments were back and forth, a majority of players agreed that it would have been better if the event didn’t fully replace standard Trios. Regardless, Apex Legends’ FFF7R takeover event is set to conclude on January 30, 2024, so those tired of seeing the Buster Sword won’t have to wait too much longer.

Apex Legends players frustrated with Ranked Series 3 split – Dexerto
Apex Legends players frustrated with Ranked Series 3 split Respawn EntertainmentFans of Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends have reported a number of frustrations with the game’s recent ‘Ranked Split’, as the game’s Ranked Series 3 undergoes its mid-way point transition. Ranked Play in Apex Legends has been pretty popular with players, as they do their best to achieve the maximum rank of Apex Predator and compete against the very best. The ongoing Ranked Series 3 – part of Apex Legends Season 4 – has seen players frustrated after undergoing the planned ‘soft reset’. As with previous Ranked Series, Respawn opted to split Series 3 into two, offering players the chance to play on both World’s Edge and King’s Canyon. However, a number of players are reporting that ranked matchmaking has been affected – and not for the better. One player explained that the soft reset saw them relegated from Gold I to Silver III, but in their recent games they have been put up against Diamond or Predator opponents. “It was so far skewed out of balance with regard to the skill levels of teams in the game it was basically unplayable as an average player,” they explained. “Is it because of the split and people are climbing to where they should be yet somehow not allowing lower ranked players to have any chance whatsoever?” It does not seem that the player is alone in their frustrations, with multiple other Apex Legends fans reporting similar problems. “This is what solo ranked players need to put up with, they should not be playing in platinum lobbies, makes the whole thing pointless,” another said, after encountering players far above their rank. The issues have led to many arguing that ranked matchmaking is currently worse than those in normal, casual matches. Furthermore, some players have reported bugs surrounding their ranks, including two ranks being displayed simultaneously. Any significant update will be sure to cause issues, but it seems this one is frustrating players who are striving to perform in Respawn’s dedicated ranked mode. Respawn have not yet responded directly to players’ issues, but will certainly be quick to iron out the issues in their most seriously-taken mode. You can keep up to date with all the issues the developers are tracking via their dedicated Trello board, and right here on Dexerto.

Apex Legends players “frustrated” by Gibraltar in Season 11 – Dexerto
Apex Legends players “frustrated” by Gibraltar in Season 11 Respawn EntertainmentThe state of Gibraltar in Apex Legends Season 11 is “frustrating” some players. From his “bubble” to the Legend’s high health making him insanely hard to takedown, players are calling for changes. Gibraltar mains are loving the character’s power in the current meta but some people are finding it maddening to takedown the OG Apex pick. For a long time, Respawn Entertainment have been searching for a way to make Gibby enticing to pick and it seems like it’s finally sticking. Many in the battle royale’s community who’ve had to contend with the walking tank feel he can be unstoppable especially considering the current Apex loot pool. One player even compared fighting Gibby to punching him continuously, and not even making a dent, using a modified Metal Gear Rising meme to make their point. The clip was met with hilarious anecdotes from players going up against him, while others wouldn’t mind if Respawn tweaked the Legend a bit. “They need to remove Fortified from Gibby. Only Caustic deserves it,” one player said. “Gibby has arm shield and Dome, plus 15% reduced damage, it’s stupid.” For all of Gibraltar’s defensive stats, Apex players need to unload multiple clips to get the character to low-HP let alone down them. “300 hp with 15% dmg reduction for 225 of it, yeah I’d be frustrated,” another person said. Another person shared a similar sentiment: “It takes 308 fricking damage to kill a red armor Gibby, I dislike it so much.” The Shielded Fortress is living up to his name in Season 11 and people have noticed. From casual fans to pro players, there’s been a few calls to nerf some of Gibby’s kit. Whether or not Respawn answer those calls remains to be seen. While Gibby is strong – and a staple in the pro meta – he isn’t wildly popular among casuals, and nerfs might reduce his pick rate further.

Apex Legends players frustrated as yet another bug breaks Wraith’s tactical – Dexerto
Apex Legends players frustrated as yet another bug breaks Wraith’s tactical Respawn EntertainmentWraith has been a hot topic in the Apex Legends community thanks to a hit registration issue when she’s exiting her tactical, but yet another bug with the Into the Void ability has only stoked the flames higher. For weeks now, Apex players have been calling for Respawn to take a closer look at Wraith and figure out what is making her invulnerable when coming out of her interdimensional ability. The problem is so bad that some have even called for her to be disabled entirely until the issue is fixed. They feel Wraith mains are being given an unfair exploit in crunch-time situations. As it turns out though, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows for the Voidwalker, as the same ability that has been giving her extra life is now accidentally getting her killed. Wraith’s Apex Legends tactical is broken in yet another way Instead of Wraith going invulnerable for a short time, the latest bug completely breaks the ability, leaving anyone who uses it 100% vulnerable, unable to use their weapons or equipment to defend themselves. As seen in the Reddit clip embedded below, this new problem can completely ruin a game for an unsuspecting player even in non-combat scenarios. In the video, the player attempts to use Into the Void to make it out of The Ring and into the safe part of the map. As they activate it, a tick of damage squeaks through, dropping them into dangerously low health. It doesn’t stop there though, as the damage pours in and they’re ultimately knocked down. In the comments of that video, some players are speculating that this may be just like the problem with Loba’s tactical, which has also suffered from issues while inside the damaging zone. Respawn has yet to acknowledge this problem with Wraith, but given that they’re already investigating the ability, they may already have an idea that something isn’t quite right.

Apex Legends players flame Respawn for “embarrassing” effort on skins – Dexerto
Apex Legends players flame Respawn for “embarrassing” effort on skins Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has a ton of cosmetics that players can equip. However, people are flaming Respawn as they claim some skins are flat-out “embarrassing.” Season 11 of Apex Legends is here bringing tons of fresh content including a new map, character, and battle pass. The battle pass is adding tons of new cosmetics that people can earn, buy, and equip to alter their appearance in-game. However, the community is upset and roasting the devs as they claim the skins are getting worse and worse as the seasons go on. Apex Legends players roast Respawn for poorly designed skins Apex players have many ways to acquire skins. They can buy them in the store, unlock them in the battle pass, and even claim free ones with Twitch Prime. While some can look really cool, a Reddit post by ‘JamesIsHotAF’ claims there’s been an “embarrassing” effort from Respawn over a free skin they say looks better than one that costs Apex Coins. Players filled the replies with their disgust for the skins in Apex and many people agreed with the user that the skins are poorly made. One said, “The skins in this game for the most part are absolutely terrible, there is no way the designers can feel good about some of the stuff that gets made.” Another Reddit thread provided more examples by comparing battle pass skins from this season to previous ones. One person said, “This season’s battle pass is also filled with trash. They even bumped the starting skins in the paid track to purple rarity to make them seem rarer but they just look awful.” While Respawn continues to pump out new seasons and content, it seems as though players want to more effort from the developer when it comes to cosmetics.

Apex Legends players flame “major” Loba bug ruining Season 13 matches – Dexerto
Apex Legends players flame “major” Loba bug ruining Season 13 matches Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are still encountering a bizarre Loba bug that prevents using the Legends’ tactical ability. Apex Legends has a wide array of Legends to do battle with, but Loba’s telepathic tactical is often an appealing reason to main this Legend. However, Loba’s tactical has been broken for quite some time, stemming back to Season 8 of Apex Legends. Despite attempts from the developers to remedy this through hotfixes and larger updates, Season 13’s iteration of this frustrating bug is possibly the worst yet. Now, Apex Legends players are blasting the game’s stability as Loba becomes a less viable Legend for battle. Apex Legends’ Loba remains “broken” in Season 13 Redditor ImGaiza shared footage of the ongoing problem, which sees Loba’s tactical fail to deploy, despite numerous attempts. Loba’s tactical made the Legend an extremely popular choice initially, but frustrated player devel_watcher is one of many to move on: “This bug has changed my legend unlock priorities.” Players like Sun-Taken-By-Trees aren’t convinced that the developers will rectify the issue in Season 13: “Worse than when she was bugged before. And of course, she’ll remain in this state for the next month and a half, but if Wraith’s phase or Gibby’s bubble was this broken they’d be fixed tomorrow.” Others have echoed these calls for action, stating that Loba’s tactical is “broken” and has affected “hit box” settings too. While most players are seeing this game-breaking bug as a negative, one player has utilized its instability to fool unsuspecting rivals: “I used this to juke out an entire team tho. It was great till I teleported into their faces lmao.” Season 14 of Apex Legends is set to debut in August, which means there is plenty of time for Respawn to finally quash this issue going forward.

Apex Legends players find a fix for “unplayable” pubs mode – Dexerto
Apex Legends players find a fix for “unplayable” pubs mode Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are reeling from “unplayable” matches in the game’s popular public matchmaking and thought up of an update for Dropships that could fix the problem. Outside of Ranked playlists, casual matches can easily devolve into fiestas where strategy flies out the window if enough players land in the same hotzones. This is a scenario that many find too often in pubs, as casual matches are called. It’s gotten to the point where players want Respawn Entertainment to get creative by spreading players out with a new feature or two that could lengthen the game enough to make matches satisfying again. This led one Apex player to think up how they’d stretch out the playing field, resulting in a slight gameplay tweak that could have major benefits for pubs. By splitting a lobby into two Dropships, Reddit user ‘kevboard’ made it so every game starts with half the lobbies far apart from each other. In their concept, they would employ double the amount of carriers that were pretty distant to each other while running in mirrored, parallel routes. This would make sure that everyone has a, somewhat, similar start and encourages people to explore their drop options. “Pubs needs this so badly, thank you for the great visuals,” one user said in response to the idea. “Pubs are unplayable because of clowns who drop hot and die within seconds. Matches don’t last beyond ring 1-2 and most of the map is empty, exactly because those people didn’t spread out normally. “Forcing teams apart like this from the game itself is the only way to improve the spread.” By default, that’d make any early-game skirmish populated by at least half the amount of contestants since 30 players started on the opposite side of the map. As great as it’d be to divide the lobby and make opening fights less chaotic, everyone agreed with kevboard that this should “not be used in Ranked mode.” The proposed changes could throw off a typical Ranked game, where the stakes are higher, but it could make casual Apex Legends matches much more fun to play in.

Apex Legends players find silliest way to cut match loading times – Dexerto
Apex Legends players find silliest way to cut match loading times Respawn/EA[jwplayer y770CzB5]Apex Legends players have got a few ‘tips’ that could help you cut right through any long loading times and jump right into a game. Though, they might not be all that serious and helpful. Just like every other online game, Apex Legends can sometimes suffer from super long loading times. This usually comes from there being a limited number of players on in your area or because you’re trying to populate a lobby with Apex Predator and diamond ranks. Obviously, some players will sit for 20 to 30 minutes in the hopes of finding a match but others will simply pack up and load up another game from their library. But, if you find yourself waiting for far too long to find a session but really want to play Apex, there are a few hilarious ‘tricks’ that you can use to find your way into a game. The tip comes courtesy of a number of Reddit users who believe that if you’re ever suffering from a long load time, you just have to mess with customizing your character, opening the challenges menu, or open an Apex Pack. That’s right, if you cut away from the main loading screen itself, your wait should be over and you should be sent right into a match. Sounds simple enough, but is it really all that truthful? Well, not really. It’s just a bit of a joke, a placebo effect if you will. Strangely enough, there isn’t really an explanation for why this ‘method’ seems to have so much success, but if you try it out for yourself, you might just think that you’ve solved all of Apex’s wait time problems in a flash. Obviously, if you’re in a part of the world that has a limited number of players at a certain time, you probably will have some matchmaking issues but for the most part, there aren’t really any serious ways to cut down on wait times. You just have to pray that the server gods are on your side.

Apex Legends players find secret Wattson nerf that must be a mistake – Dexerto
Apex Legends players find secret Wattson nerf that must be a mistake Respawn/EAApex Legends players have become increasingly frustrated by a bug with Wattson’s ultimate that doesn’t counter Horizon at all, making the already powerful legend even more OP than usual. Horizon was added to Apex Legends as a part of Season 7, using her astrophysicist skills to shake things up in matches on both Olympus and Worlds Edge. Since her introduction, Horizon has become perhaps the strongest legend in the game, even more so than Caustic or Wraith. However, players have been growing increasingly frustrated with her. Some pros and streamers believe she is out and out bad for the battle royale and needs some drastic changes. However, a new bug is making her even stronger than usual when coming up against Wattson. Wattson’s Interception Pylon ultimate counters many abilities and items in Apex, and should gobble up both Horizon’s Black Hole ultimate and her Gravity Lift when they’re used nearby. However, recently, some players have noted that it isn’t quite working that way, giving the Scottish astrophysicist an even bigger helping hand.

Apex Legends players find secret Pathfinder nerf that must be a mistake – Dexerto
Apex Legends players find secret Pathfinder nerf that must be a mistake Respawn EntertainmentPathfinder has been secretly nerfed in the Apex Legends Beast of Prey update, and it involves his fan-favorite zipline Ultimate. A member of the original Apex Legends roster, Pathfinder is definitely one of the most iconic characters in the Outlands. Not only that but the Forward’s Scout popularity is also reflected in his incredible pick rate, which sits at an impressive 9.2% in Season 14. Despite this, Respawn didn’t feel the need to make any changes to Pathfinder’s kit in the Beast of Prey Collection Event, so no buffs or nerfs were mentioned for him in the patch notes. However, after jumping into a game after the Collection Event, Pathfinder mains quickly realized that he’d been hit with a secret nerf. Pathfinder hit with secret nerf in Beast of Prey update Discovered and showcased by Apex Legends YouTuber Skeptation, it seems Respawn has nerfed Pathfinder’s zipline Ultimate. The Forward Scout can no longer bounce between double zip lines, an advanced movement mechanic that a lot of Pathfinder mains used to avoid enemy fire and make outplays. While before you could maintain your momentum going forward and jumping between both lines, now attempting to do the technique will stop you in your tracks by pushing you into the air. There was no mention of this nerf in the Beast of Prey patch notes, so a lot of Pathfinder players are extremely frustrated and confused about why the devs would remove this. There’s no denying this is a niche mechanic and its removal will only affect dedicated Pathfinder mains, but taking away any technique from a Legend’s kit is a huge deal for those who have mastered them completely. It’s possible this is a mistake from Respawn similar to the accidental removal of tap-strafing in the past. If that’s the case, hopefully, the devs will roll out a patch in the near future to resolve the issue. However, if this was a deliberate nerf, it’s definitely not going to go down well with the huge community of Pathfinder mains who love pushing his kit to the limits.

Apex Legends players find perfect way to introduce Titans into the game – Dexerto
Apex Legends players find perfect way to introduce Titans into the game Apex Legends has launched to massive success with only one game mode, but some fans would like to see even more options, including an AI controlled event on the map. For a game that takes place in the Titanfall universe, there is one huge (literally) element missing from Apex Legends, the Titans. In an attempt to fix the lack of Titans, a redditor suggested an AI controlled Scorch Titan could be dropped on the Apex map. The post was originally made as a “stupid suggestion,” but the community quickly took to the idea and some wanted to see it as a special event. Players then gave some ideas on how the Titan would integrate into the game. “[After killing it], have the cockpit open and reveal the pilot’s Gold Deathbox with randomly generated loot,” said one player. Respawn, the makers of Titanfall and Apex Legends, have frequently commented on the game’s lack of giant robots. “The Titans in Titanfall 1 and 2 were meant to be a power fantasy – you’re supposed to think ‘alright, I can call it in, I can power it up and feel like a bad-ass for a little while,” Respawn’s Lead Producer Drew McCoy told Eurogamer. But the idea didn’t translate to battle royale, “So we were prototyping that [in Apex] and they were a power-up, and that was really detrimental to a battle royale… If we ever balanced a Titan down to where they were not a destructive force on the match – it was like betraying that power fantasy – it was not worth it.” Mackey McCandlish, Design Director at Respawn, further explained why Titans are not a great fit in battle royale. “It didn’t feel fair to go up against a Titan in the last circle if you hadn’t had a chance to find a Titan,” McCandlish told VentureBeat. “It felt more like something was happening to you. The inherent competitive fairness of battle royale was threatened.” “It didn’t feel fair to go up against a Titan in the last circle if you hadn’t had a chance to find a Titan.” An AI controlled Scorch Titan would not conflict with Respawn’s design goals in Apex Legends however, since no player is gaining an advantage by piloting the robot. With plans to continually update Apex, it is possible Respawn will bring along new game modes and events to the popular battle royale title. Titanfall fans will keep hoping the iconic Titans will be a part of it.

Apex Legends players find Octane’s Launch Pad Ultimate Ability in-game – Dexerto
Apex Legends players find Octane’s Launch Pad Ultimate Ability in-game As the Apex Legend community patiently awaits the release of the new Legend Octane, players have begun to find traces of its existence already in-game. From all of the information that has been leaked about Octane, it’s pretty much set in stone at this point that the new Legend’s Ultimate Ability will be called Launch Pad. According to the leaks, this ability will allow Octane to deploy a Launch Pad onto the ground that will “catapult users through the air,” suggesting that it can be used by both teammates and foes. While Respawn have yet to even confirm that Octane will be the next Legend, let alone what it’s abilities will be, players have already come across these Launch Pads when playing. On March 15, social media was being filled with screenshots and images of these Launch Pads in the actual game, clear as day. Furthermore, not only have these Launch Pads inexplicably began appearing all over the map, they are apparently very much usable at this point. In the video below, the player approaches the Launch Pad at an angle and walks over it, which causes him to fly high into the air and land at some distance away. A second attempt allows him to catapult all the way onto the roof of a nearby building, giving a glimpse as to the potential of this device. Update: It looks like the surprise appearance of the launch pad was actually an intentional move by Respawn developers, as the game files label it a “sneak peak.” Here’s the updated pic of that leaked file. We should expect Octane to drop soon as even that is there in the post playlist file.#ApexLegends #ApexLegendsBattleRoyale #ApexPartner #ApexLegendsleaks #apexlegendsclips #apexlegendscommunity pic.twitter.com/eXwMcwiq2q — Apex Legends – News & Leaks (@RealApexLeaks) March 16, 2019 On Reddit, a number of Respawn developers were also replying to posts about the Launch Pad sightings with knowing smiles, and stating that they were also coming to PC. The appearances of these Launch Pads was not the only Octane-related content to be found in Apex Legends on March 15. Players have also reported that an in-game visual bug is revealing a slight glimpse of what many are speculating is the reveal trailer for the new Legend. As can be seen in the video below, as soon as the King’s Canyon loading screen cuts out, the screen momentarily freezes on a never-before-seen cutscene, with all of the legends walking together towards a mysterious As for anyone who may be concerned that the appearance of this new content may be the result of a glitch or, even worse, falsified, this Reddit comment made by a Respawn developer pretty much confirms everything to be as real as it gets. So what does this mean for Octane and its potential release? While we still don’t have a set date, the appearance of all of this new content heavily suggests that the new Legend will be making its debut sooner rather than later.

Apex Legends players find insane hiding spot on Kings Canyon – Dexerto
Apex Legends players find insane hiding spot on Kings Canyon Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends community has found yet another insane hiding spot, this time as a hidden cave on the newly updated Kings Canyon map. Respawn updated Kings Canyon for Apex Legends Season 14 to include new POIs and a more open feel overall. Unfortunately, sometimes map updates leave in bits of problematic geography that players can exploit. Now, players have discovered a new hidden cave on Season 14’s Kings Canyon which makes for the perfect ratting spot. New rat spot on Kings Canyon The spot gained traction after Reddit user andrew_baseball21 made a post on the Apex Legends subreddit. This hidden cave is located in the chokepoint hallway just above the Market POI. Though the hallway looks completely normal, there is actually a hidden alcove in the ceiling that mobility Legends like Pathfind and Valkyrie can easily access. This ceiling cave is so deep that if players back up against the wall they are completely out of sight from any enemies below. According to commenters on the Reddit post, some players are already aware of the hiding spot and are using it in matches. “Saw someone up there last night… Only thing that gave them away was a vantage using her Ult,” said user bluethunder40. Some users thanked the original poster for bringing more attention to the spot, like ThaiJohnnyDepp who said, “Thanks I’ll be tossing a nade up there every time I go through from now on.” This isn’t the first time that Apex Legends maps have housed ridiculous hiding spots, let alone in Kings Canyon. Though it can certainly be frustrating when exploitable areas slip through the cracks, with any luck Respawn with catch wind of this area and remove it through a patch.

Apex Legends players find hidden tunnel on Kings Canyon that’s been there forever – Dexerto
Apex Legends players find hidden tunnel on Kings Canyon that’s been there forever Respawn EntertainmentThe Mandela effect is in full swing in Apex Legends, as a large swathe of the community was shocked to discover that there is a secretive tunnel on Kings Canyon – which has actually been there since the game first released. With the big battle royale maps like we see in Apex Legends, players are always discovering new spots, routes to get high ground and smart grapple positions with Pathfinder. Even after over two years of Kings Canyon, some players are discovering totally new locations on the map – such as the tunnel located near the swamps. As some day-one players will know, this tunnel has always been there, but it’s not exactly obvious, or very useful. So it came as a surprise to thousands when a clip of it was shared online. Hidden tunnel on Kings Canyon? If you haven’t looked for it before, it’s not unreasonable to have never noticed this hidden tunnel. After all, it doesn’t serve any useful rotation purpose, but it does have a couple of loot bins inside. On September 11, Apex player u/Sametg73 posted “I’m probably the last to know, but since when is there this tunnel on Kings Canyon?” – and to their amazement, plenty of other players also had no idea about it. Some OG players said “Don’t think I’ve been through this thing once. Not a single damn time.” Another said “I’ve been playing since s1 and landed swamp a million times and I’ve legit never seen this in my life. What area is it at?” In general, Swamps is a fairly overlooked area of Kings Canyon, perhaps due to its location on the very outskirts of the map. It also feels pretty rare for the final circle to end in this location. Read More: Rarest Apex Legends skins – This tunnel might not serve much of a gameplay purpose outside of a sneaky hiding spot, but, with so many players apparently unaware of it, you might be able to bamboozle enemies with it and get an unsuspecting flank on them.

Apex Legends players find glitch that allows them outside map boundaries – Dexerto
Apex Legends players find glitch that allows them outside map boundaries Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends sleuths have discovered a new way to push the game’s limits by using respawn beacons to drop into unexplored zones. Normally, invisible barriers stop players from accessing out-of-bounds areas, and timers pop up to make sure they stick to approved areas on the map. But some players have found out that the timers won’t appear if they place a mobile respawn beacon near the barrier. Once they die, they have a decent chance of dropping back down on the other side, without a timer limiting their chance to explore the inaccessible parts of the map. This can also be achieved by using Valkyrie’s ultimate, which can sometimes be used like a dropship to get your entire team in the out-of-bounds area, provided you’re 400 meters off the ground. YouTuber Dirty Skirty confirmed that this trick works on multiple maps, including World’s Edge, Storm Point, and King’s Canyon. Players have already started to use these tactics to get their hands on previously inaccessible loot that spawns outside control map boundaries. The Prowlers on Lava Siphon are the best option here, as they drop weapons that can still be used during matches. However, other mechanics like zip lines and supply bins will not spawn in the out-of-bounds areas, though Pathfinder ultimates will still work. This is not the first dropship bug that has been recorded in the last week. A matchmaking bug also allowed solo players in team lobbies to randomly gain new teammates after clearing out whole squads. These new teammates didn’t even have a dropship animation, and simply appeared on the ground.

Apex Legends players find evidence that Revenant’s hitbox is broken – Dexerto
Apex Legends players find evidence that Revenant’s hitbox is broken EARevenant is the hottest commodity in Apex Legends with the launch of Season 4, but some players have discovered the new character’s hitbox leaves a lot to be desired. As players are trying out the new character, they are quickly discovering he takes a lot of unnecessary damage. This is due to his hitbox being a bit larger than his slender frame would suggest. The smaller characters in Apex Legends actually take more damage than the bulkier ones, given the fact they are usually harder to hit, so this could be a big issue. One player has shown Revenant’s hitbox covers a bit more area than it should, making him a tad easier to hit that his slim counterpart Wraith, for example. It originally had looked like the new Legend had one of the smallest hitboxes in the games, but as it turns out, that isn’t quite the case. A video uploaded by Reddit user SAS97x highlights this issue, showing that players can actually aim just a little above Revenant’s head, or just between his legs with the crosshair set on nothing, and they would still be able to land shots. Obviously, this, coupled with the fact that Revenant takes more damage than a typical character, is a recipe for disaster. Anyone who is looking to main this new Legend could quickly grow frustrated with the hitbox inconsistencies and drop him in exchange for a more durable character. It’s not exactly a good look for the new season, but if enough players voice concerns about this problem, Respawn will have no choice but to step in and address it. A good way for players to know what the devs are working on behind the scenes would be checking their Trello board. Anything being worked on will be posted there and players will even be able to see when the fixes are coming. If Revenant’s hitbox does end up being worked on, that will be one of the first places it’ll be mentioned.

Apex Legends players find devastating exploit in Three Strikes LTM – Dexerto
Apex Legends players find devastating exploit in Three Strikes LTM Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have discovered an exploit in the Three Strikes LTM that allows knocked players to be finished off. Apex Legends Three Strikes LTM has been a huge hit with the community, with many claiming the game mode has brought pure chaotic fun back to the battle royale. For those who may know, the LTM was introduced through the Post Malone collab event. The game mode allows for teams to respawn with full gear up to three times, revive teammates quickly, and prevent damage when knocked. Unfortunately, it seems a newly discovered exploit has invalidated one of those key features, which could prove to be very frustrating for some players. Apex Legends fans discover new Three Strikes exploit The exploit was shared by a user named MirageGod on the Apex Legends subreddit, in a post titled, “So this is a thing in Three Strikes…” The post included a brief video where a squad found a downed enemy Lifeline on Broken Moon. The squad then proceeded to melee the downed player into a pit. When a player falls into a pit while downed or otherwise, jets activate to give them a chance to boost back onto solid ground before their outright killed. These jets activated for the downed player, but their damage immunity was removed and they were killed by the opposing squad. According to the video, this exploit allows downed players in this free-fall state to be susceptible to damage when they are supposed to be completely immune. Members of the community were worried that this exploit may become a big problem for the LTM, especially if Respawn eventually decides to make it permanent. “I hope Respawn sees this if they’re considering putting it in mix tape after the event is over, seems like a massive oversight,” said one player. Another fan in the comments claimed to have encountered an instance where they could perform a finisher on a downed Three Strikes player. Hopefully, Respawn will be able to catch wind of this exploit and rectify it in an upcoming patch should they decide to add Three Strikes to the Mix Tape LTM rotation going forward.

Apex Legends players find another hidden easter egg in Firing Range – Dexerto
Apex Legends players find another hidden easter egg in Firing Range Respawn EntertainmentThe Firing Range in Apex Legends is seemingly full of nifty little teasers and easter eggs for players to find, and now in Season 5, more are still cropping up. Not long after Apex first released, players found a toy ‘Nessy’ and toy dog in the practice area, and later discovered you could even go into third-person mode. Now, another easter egg has been uncovered, but it looks like it might not be in its final form just yet. Anyone can see this in-game, if you want to check it out for yourself. By simply approaching the targets in the range, you’ll see a small QR code is visible, which you’ll then need to scan with your smartphone. Simply open up your camera, and hold it over the code. For now, this code will then direct you to the homepage of Respawn’s website, showing you latest news from what the studio is working on. For now, there’s nothing more to see than that, which at first you might think is a little disappointing. But, Respawn always have something up their sleeves, and now we know that they can use the QR codes in-game, it may be a new way for them to tease content coming to the game in a cryptic way. Other developers have used similar tricks to this in the past. Call of Duty devs have used QR codes to release teasers for upcoming entries in the series, for example. Eagle-eyed Apex players will now be on the hunt for more codes in the future, and there may even be some in the game already that haven’t been found yet. To view and scan QR codes, you only need a smartphone, so they’re an easily accessible way to share information discreetly, useful for dropping small teasers and building up some hype. For now, though, the Firing Range code just takes you to their homepage. We can only hope they have other plans for this feature down the line.

Apex Legends players fed up with game’s “poor” state as it bleeds users – Dexerto
Apex Legends players fed up with game’s “poor” state as it bleeds users Apex LegendsApex Legends players are not happy with the current state of the game as it continues to lose players each month. While still maintaining a large presence in the world of competitive shooters and battle royale, Apex Legends is seeing its players leaving in droves. With other options like Warzone and Fortnite continuing to grow, the game is finding difficulty in maintaining its player base. Now, fans are expressing their unhappiness with how the game is being run after several months of the playercount dropping. Apex Legends players are unhappy with the “poor” state of the game as more people leave The conversation began on the game’s subreddit, where a fan posted the player count for Apex Legends over the last four months. The post, titled: “For the first time since Steam launch, Apex has lost players 4 months in a row,” shows that the game has been steadily losing players for a fair amount of time. The post shows that in September 2023, the game was sitting at an average of 186,494 players. Now, it boasts a significantly smaller average of 141,182 players. Unfortunately, the community does not seem shocked by this news at all, with the top comment saying: “Not surprised. The state of the game is poor to say the least.” Many users seem to feel that the game prioritizes its monetization models, rather than improving the gameplay experience itself. This is summed in a response to the comment above, where a player said: “I know what will fix it. more cosmetics that are priced higher!” The prices of cosmetics has been an ongoing debate since Apex Legends first came out, and with Respawn seemingly keeping course on their model, the players aren’t too happy about it. “Unfortunately this is all Apex is – a cash cow to strip out as much money as possible,” is a comment made further on in the thread. Fans seem to be losing interest – and hope – in the game’s future, and believe that the player count dropping is a result of Respawn itself.

Apex Legends players fed up waiting for anti-cheat update as it’s worse than ever – Dexerto
Apex Legends players fed up waiting for anti-cheat update as it’s worse than ever Apex Legends / Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players believe it is “incredibly disappointing” that Respawn has not upgraded the battle royale’s anti-cheat amid a wave of quality-of-life fixes. Over the past few years, Apex Legends fans have been urging Respawn to forego some game-changing updates and focus on the battle royale’s health. They’ve wanted the servers upgraded, guns to be properly balanced, and overall rethink on things. Well, Respawn has answered the call on a few of those fronts. Not every new season contains a new legend, gun, or map these days, with a few recent updates focusing on reworking abilities and in-game features. One thing that, publicly, hasn’t been changed is the anti-cheat. Players are still running into a mass of cheaters on a daily basis, and they’re ‘disappointed’ by that fact as they want it to change. “It’s become clear that cheating has not gotten any better this season, it’s gotten worse,” one Redditor said. “It was the biggest issue that had been raised and they did nothing to deter or dissuade cheaters, if anything it feels like they want them around to get more butts in chairs. It’s incredibly disappointing because some of the changes recently have added more life to the game, but I can’t get past this. Plenty of fans quickly agreed with that sentiment. “It’s already really bad this season and a lot of cheaters aren’t even trying to hide it. They never really needed to hide it in the first place,” said MercilessM3. “Yes, it is very sad. That was my biggest concern. At this point I feel as though they literally do not care,” another agreed. “Correct, and if you play ranked, you’ll notice that in Diamond, Masters, and Pred, there are mostly cheaters,” another added. “That’s not to say there aren’t legitimately skilled players in those ranks—there are. However, there are a metric f ton of cheaters.” Others argued that it would be “really hard” to wipe out cheaters completely. “I don’t understand what people want Respawn to do about the cheaters. They exist in every single game and whatever barrier they put up cheaters will just find a new way around it, that’s why they’re cheaters,” one commented. Respawn has cracked down on cheaters in the past and promised further changes. So, hopefully, they keep to that.

Apex Legends players exposed for “teaming” to get rare 4K Damage badge – Dexerto
Apex Legends players exposed for “teaming” to get rare 4K Damage badge Respawn EntertainmentPlayers have noticed a growing trend in Apex Legends, with some people “teaming” in order to obtain the highly sought-after 4K Damage badge. Respawn Entertainment loaded their battle royale with a ton of badges for players to unlock, but the particularly challenging Wrath Level 4 badges require someone to deal 4,000 damage in a single game. Since they are specific to every Legend, they’re colloquially known as “4k badges.” The badge demands someone to get super aggro from the very start of a game, since even a match-winning team can have players topping out at only 2500 damage or below. However, the fanbase has been noticing “4K badges lately, often on average skilled players,” which started to raise some eyebrows. A couple of recorded instances have surfaced online, in which a player’s squad is “teaming” with other people. Since there’s a max of three members to a squad in Apex Legends, two friends load by themselves into a match, with others linking up with them while on another team. “After solo queuing, I ended up in a team with those two players who had a friend join the same game in a different team,” Reddit user ‘Yurishirox’ said of their own experience against a “teaming” player. “… Using Lifeline for heals and Wattson for endless shield recharging, [allowed them] to ‘earn’ the 4k damage badge.” The kill feed in the clip above shows the same names appearing then reappearing as Yurishirox looks from a distance, lest they get lumped with the cheaters if they get caught. Another instance recorded by user ‘goldfish18’ captured a similar event, where a group of players are huddled around, repeatedly knocking each other down. “This Pathfinder was knocked and revived over 40 times while I was spectating,” goldfish18 said. “Totals about 5,000 damage from that Caustic alone. It’s too bad there isn’t a way to report things like this in game on PS4.” The exploit has been drawing a lot of attention from the Apex community, as some are starting to notice the allure of the badge diminish due to the rise of teamers. Respawn have been vocal about punishing cheaters in the past with an upcoming “Judgement day” punishment in the works, so it’ll be interesting to see if they tackle the issue of the 4k badge exploit.

Apex Legends players expose invisible hiding spot on Kings Canyon – Dexerto
Apex Legends players expose invisible hiding spot on Kings Canyon Respawn/EAApex Legends players have uncovered a pretty big bugged spot on Kings Canyon that allows them to sit and hide inside the rock face towards Slum Lakes and shoot while not being able to take[jwplayer UQowmNq2] damage. Like any other battle royale, there are plenty of different playstyles within Apex Legends. Some players prefer to go all out and rack up kills right from the drop, while others will use different abilities to hang back and move in with the edge of the safe zone – focusing on winning and high placements, rather than eliminations. However, a new bugged spot on Kings Canyon is allowing those slow playing squads to take things to a whole new level by hiding inside one of the mountains that sits between Slum Lakes and Destroyed Cascades. The new location was pointed out by Reddit user itsjustblob, who showcased a video from a recent match of theirs – claiming that an opposing squad were “abusing” the glitched spot in question. As the video showed, itsjustblob became aware of a squad being close to them, but they were actually unable to see them until they got up close and personal with the mountain. The player attempted to fire through the rock face but their shots were wasted, so instead, they jumped up inside the glitched spot to take the team head-on. Facing a full squad that were more than happy just to sit there, the Gibraltar user backed away after taking some serious damage before being chased by the opposing team as they came out of their hidey-hole. Itsjustblob also noted that they’d seen the spot taken up by other players on streams, and that’s why they were aware of the enemies deciding to hide up there. Obviously, hiding spots aren’t uncommon in Apex, but when they’re something that players can abuse, it becomes something that Respawn will likely investigate. As of writing, the developers haven’t made a note of it on their Trello board of problems, so it remains to be seen as to whether or not the spot will be patched up anytime soon.

Apex Legends players explain why The Hunt LTM makes the game “awful” – Dexerto
Apex Legends players explain why The Hunt LTM makes the game “awful” RespawnApex Legends players are claiming The Hunt takeover LTM makes the battle royale “awful” to play. For a while, the Apex Legends community was desperate for the Respawn devs to release more limited-time modes, which offer a different way to enjoy the popular battle royale. Over the past couple of months, the devs have done a stellar job at keeping players happy, releasing numerous LTMs to experience, such as the popular Three Strikes and Straight Shot modes. However, players are currently frustrated, claiming the newly released The Hunt takeover, which replaced the core battle royale as part of the Inner Beast collection, makes the regular game “awful.” Apex Legends players call game “awful” because of LTM In a Reddit thread on March 8, one Apex Legends fan slammed The Hunt takeover. “The Hunt game mode is awful,” they wrote. “This new event makes pubs awful. Perma scan is dumb, games end before second circle close, third parties are even quicker, so everyone just sends everything.” They added: “The last few LTMs have been awesome. This one really makes me want to sit this collection event out.” Immediately after The Hunt’s release, some players labeled the mode as one of Apex Legends‘ worst yet. Not only that, the devs have faced backlash for the release of the Inner Beast Collection Event as a whole — slamming it for being another “recolor” event. In late 2023, we saw the popular Three Strikes LTM arrive with the Post Malone event, which players loved so much the devs brought it back for an extra week. The Straight Shot LTM then arrived with the release of Season 20, which players praised as one the best modes to ever come to the game.

Apex Legends players enjoy “lore accurate” death of Octane player – Dexerto
Apex Legends players enjoy “lore accurate” death of Octane player RespawnApex Legends players are enjoying an online clip of an Octane player’s death that stays true to the lore of the character. Octane has been in Apex Legends for a long time, being one of the very first Legends ever added to the game. His fast-paced style reflects his lore, which revolves around his being addicted to adrenaline, to the point of blowing his own legs off in a race. Now, some players are remarking that a clip posted online is resembling just the kind of behavior that Octane would perform as a character. Apex Legends players are loving a “lore accurate” Octane death The clip was posted to the game’s subreddit with an apt title of: “This octane stimmed himself to 1hp and thought, ‘Let’s push.’” The video itself shows the Octane player sprinting full-steam at an enemy squad while being at incredibly low health, eventually ending in his death. The comments and responses show that the community is certainly enjoying it, with many players pointing out that the character of Octane, himself, would do something like this. “Lore accurate octane” is the top-voted comment on the post, and the entire thing is littered with plenty of messages like it. For those who don’t know, the character of Octane in Apex Legends lore has two bionic legs that he received after blowing off his own in an effort to win a race. While most of the responses were humorous about the whole thing, there were some players who used the clip as a reason to vent their frustrations, with one user saying: “This is why I don’t play with randoms.” Octane certainly has a reputation in the game thanks to his quick speed and ability to move around the battlefield quicker than anyone else. Love it or hate it, Octane will always be a hot topic in Apex Legends.

Apex Legends players ecstatic over Season 22’s “uncanny” aim flinch change – Dexerto
Apex Legends players ecstatic over Season 22’s “uncanny” aim flinch change Apex Legends / Respawn EntertainmentRespawn released the early patch notes for Season 22, and players have been drawn to one major change that has them ecstatic to hop back into the game: Aim flinch has been almost entirely removed. Season 22 will introduce a host of new content and mechanics like akimbo versions of weapons and aim assist changes. However, the update players have honed in on the most is the near-total removal aim flinch. Before these changes, players hit by opposing fire would have their aim thrown off target. Considering how difficult it is to track players that understand Apex’s complex movement tech, aim flinch only added to the struggle. As of Season 22, aim flinch will be no more. Players will be able to maintain their aim on an enemy regardless of whether they are receiving opposing fire. Though, it’s worth noting some Legend abilities will still cause flinch. This change has been met with overwhelming enthusiasm from the community across social media, with players praising Respawn for the decision. “That’s huge. Feels uncanny not having flinch after all this time,” one player said on Reddit. “This is an incredible QOL change,” another said in response to the flinch change. Mouse and keyboard players were the most excited about the change. Aim flinch was especially prominent for those users, as they weren’t afforded the same level of help from aim assist as those using controllers. “Aim assist always helped correct the flinch but mnk we were bouncing all over the place,” Apex content creator Noko explained on social media. Paired with the general aim assist nerfs coming in this Season, the playing field has been leveled. Controller players will have a much harder time tracking the enemy than before. The Season 22 update, with its aim flinch and aim assist changes, has overshadowed some of Respawn’s missteps with the Apex Legends Battle Pass. Some players have said it might be time to redownload the Battle Royale after uninstalling it in protest.

Apex Legends players dub Season 20 Ranked “the best” it’s ever been – Dexerto
Apex Legends players dub Season 20 Ranked “the best” it’s ever been RespawnRespawn has been praised for the Ranked Play changes in Season 20 that reverted much of the system to the style of Season 13. Respawn changed Ranked Play in its massive Season 20 update back in February, reverting it to a similar system from Season 13 with some slight tweaks. Apex players have not been a fan of the ranked system for the past few seasons, as it was too easy to climb to an inflated rank. The developer reintroduced Ranked Points, made kills and placement more impactful for player’s rating, and also allowed players of any rank to queue together. Players praise Apex Legends Season 20 Ranked system In a Reddit post titled “Ranked is the best it’s ever been,” user isaac-get-the-golem explained how Season 20 is heads and shoulders above past seasons. “I’ve been playing since season 0, and playing ranked most seasons since then. There has never been a better season of Apex. Many of my friends who quit the game completely have come back and described the sensation as ‘addictive.’ I went from struggling to find a 3rd to having 6 people clamoring for a stack every night,” they said. The player listed gameplay reasons for his conclusion like the EVO system changes, and Ranked, like how kills and placement no matter more compared to previous seasons. Other players in the comments somewhat agreed with the take, withholding the “best” title due to small gripes with some other aspects of the game. “I wouldn’t say it’s the best but it’s a huge improvement over the last couple of seasons. They just need to balance placement and kills a little more,” one commenter said. “My only complaint is Olympus is f****** trash. If anyone is on the same half of the map have fun getting 3rd partied. Also, good luck rotating into ring and having to fight 5 teams rotating through the same 3 chokes,” another commenter explained. Players on console might also have a bone to pick with the post, as the community has complained of players in their lobbies teaming up with enemy squads to game the ranked system. Outside of that, which might be entirely out of Respawn’s control, players seem to be enjoying the radical changes put forward in Season 20.

Apex Legends players double down on calls for updatable Heirlooms – Dexerto
Apex Legends players double down on calls for updatable Heirlooms Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have doubled down on their calls for Respawn to make changes to the battle royale’s infamous Heirlooms which would make them even more valuable. Any Apex Legends fans will be familiar with Heirlooms – the game’s ultra-rare items pertaining to individual legends and their lore. Currently, there are 13 Heirlooms available in Apex, with each of Wraith, Bloodhound, Lifeline, Pathfinder, Octane, Mirage, Caustic, Gibraltar, Bangalore, Revenant, Rampart, Wattson, and Crypto having a set. Respawn are committed to each legend getting an Heirloom set. However, one feature has long been called for by players to make them even more valuable in-game. Currently, there are a finite amount of things players can do with Heirlooms in terms of animations and inspections. Fans want updatable Heirlooms, with new animations, inspections, and skins applicable to the ultra-rare cosmetics. The point was made by Redditor Dry_Atmosphere_9631, who said: “So I think this subject had been talked about… but I need to talk about it, also hopefully someone from the devs can see it… don’t you think we need updates for the old Heirlooms? Like some more inspections or something.” Respawn have previously indicated they would be open to such changes, with Moy Parra, a Lead Animator at Respawn, stating that such a change would come eventually. Plenty of other fans echoed the OP’s renewed calls to get them added to Apex. One even suggested each Heirloom gets its own finisher; a unique execution animation relating to the item. It’s worth noting, though, that Respawn have poured cold water on this idea in the past. It seems unlikely Heirlooms will be upgraded anytime soon but, with them so sought after and Respawn previously admitting they’re open to community ideas, we wouldn’t rule it out just yet.

Apex Legends players double down on calls for solo queue changes in Season 13 – Dexerto
Apex Legends players double down on calls for solo queue changes in Season 13 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling on the devs at Respawn to make adjustments to solo-queuing, as complaints about teammates and matchmaking continue into Season 13. Solo queuing has long been a contentious topic in the Apex Legends community. The devs’ refusal to implement Solos as anything more than a LTM has upset some players who do not have teammates they can regularly drop in with. TSM pro ImperialHal has defended the developers and stated that Apex Legends is inherently a team game but others continue to lobby for improved systems to allow solo players to enjoy games to a greater extent. That has remained true in Season 13, which dropped on May 10 and brought Newcastle into the Storm Point party. On May 15, one Redditor hit out at the state of solo queuing in Season 13, describing it as at “an all time” low. They called for changes to matchmaking and RP changes, saying: “If I gain less points for killing lower ranked players then I need to lose less RP when they are on my team. Solo queue is at an all-time worst. I have more Bronze and Rookie players on my team then Gold which is my rank.” Another player echoed the sentiment and hit out at being forced into teams with players they have blocked while solo-queuing. “I don’t mind having longer Q times,” they said, “but if I block a person, it’s because they were extremely toxic before. Your reporting system doesn’t work or doesn’t care. So at least let me manage my games.” As of the publication of this article, Respawn continue to stand strong on the position of Solos in Apex Legends but, with many players forced into teams they do not enjoy, calls for mitigating features will surely continue to grow.

Apex Legends players divided over new system to unlock Monsters skins – Dexerto
Apex Legends players divided over new system to unlock Monsters skins Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are divided over huge changes to unlocking skins in the Halloween event, with Respawn removing the ability to purchase them individually with coins. For Apex Legends players, October is one of the most exciting months of the year when it comes to content due to the annual Halloween event. This year is no different, with the Monsters Within event kicking off on October 12 and introducing the new ‘Encore’ Arenas map, a set of scary skins, as well as a host of fresh objectives to complete. Despite this, not every addition in the upcoming spooky event has been well received by the player base, with the changes to crafting and skin collection dividing the community in two. Apex Legends skin collection changes split community in two Respawn has made some significant changes to the way players can collect and craft skins in the Monsters Within event and the community is debating whether the new system is better for the game. Instead of being able to purchase spooky skins with premium currency individually, players have to buy an event pack or craft the cosmetic with materials. However, the devs have doubled the amount it costs to craft them with materials, making them incredibly expensive. Although Respawn has promised to lower the prices after a few seasons, some players are frustrated they have to rely on the random chance of packs to pick up skins. Others argue that being able to craft the skins using materials is a positive change for those who prefer to spend less money on the game. A thread posted by NizzyDeniro sparked a conversation regarding the issue on the Apex Legends subreddit. During the Halloween Event you CANNOT outright purchase the skins you want. You HAVE to spend $4 on an Event Pack or craft the item you want for double the Crafting cost (2400 – Legendary. 800 – Epic.) There are 40 items and each pack only guarantees ONE random Event item. WTF RESPAWN?????? byu/NizzyDeniro inapexlegends It’s obvious from the comments on the thread that there are players on both sides of the debate, with some arguing that by the time the material prices are reduced, Halloween skins will no longer be sought-after: “In two seasons it’ll be f***ing March. Why would I want to wait to craft the Halloween skins in March?” Others are happy that Respawn is adding these skins to the normal pool of skins, making them attainable all year round: “I know it sucks not being able to purchase exactly what you want, but it’s because they’re permanent additions now”. It’ll be interesting to see if this is a one-off experiment for Respawn, or if this will be the new permanent skin system going forward. Without the ability to buy the skins they want, some players won’t take the risk of buying packs, as they may get cosmetics for Legends they don’t play.

Apex Legends players divided over controversial Arc Star changes coming soon – Dexerto
Apex Legends players divided over controversial Arc Star changes coming soon Respawn/EAApex Legends players have been left a little split after it was revealed that Arc Stars would be nerfed in the upcoming Raiders Collection Event update. While they’ve never been a way to guarantee success, the three types of grenades have always played a big role in Apex Legends games. A well-placed Frag will soften an enemy before you swoop in with a gun or ability, Thermites can fortify positions and prevent over-aggressive pushes, and Arc Stars can stun an enemy in place while also ticking down their shield fairly decently. The Arc Stars have always been pretty powerful, and as players have been complaining about them in recent seasons, Respawn are giving them a bit of a tweak – with lowering the damage dealt from a stick being the biggest one. With the changes being revealed as a part of the Raiders Collection Event patch notes, players have been a bit split in their opinions on the change. “Why the hell did they nerf arc stars?” asked Redditor JuiceEeEeE361, seemingly confused by it. Some players, like HedgehogEmperor, believe Respawn have gone too far with the changes and punish the skill needed to pull off a stick. “Worst balance change I’ve ever seen, no more rewarding skilled shots. Huge nerf to Fuse, Ash, and Horizon too,” they said. One player complained that the change is “lame as hell” while others suggested that they’ll no longer be picked up in matches. “SMH, nothing but frags and thermites (being used) now,” one player added. On the flip side, some players said that they are “looking forward” to the changes as they’ve been waiting for quite some time. “God damn this has been needed for so long,” commented one pleased fan. “A lucky Arc Star stick shouldn’t determine an entire fight’s outcome.” Another, Brvtal100, added: “When you are actually good with Arc Stars, it’s a really cheese way to take out a whole squad. Comp teams know from experience.” The change to the grenades will go live on December 7, though, if their usage does fall off a cliff, Respawn might have to switch things up again. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Apex Legends players divided over arrival of stickers in Season 15 – Dexerto
Apex Legends players divided over arrival of stickers in Season 15 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends is adding a new type of collectible in Season 15, stickers, which will allow players to customize their healing items and bring some more personality to their gameplay. However, the fanbase is split over whether it’s a good idea or not. From holosprays to trackers, there are already tons of ways to inject some personalized style into the Apex Legends experience. That level of customization is only getting deeper in Season 15 when stickers make their way into the game. Just like they sound, stickers are a cosmetic item that can be applied to Syringes, Shield Cells, Batteries, Phoenix Kits, and Med Kits to give them their own distinct look. Each item can have a unique design slapped on but that’s not a good thing according to some fans. Apex Legends fans debate addition of stickers in Season 15 The case being made against the stickers is that they’re going to be another thing that clogs up the reward pool. Several players have made the plea that scoring any type of rare item out of an Apex Pack is already difficult enough and that another basic cosmetic is only going to make it worse. “I’ll probably never spend actual money on Apex packs again depending on how many stickers enter the loot pool. They’re not terrible but they give me the same vibes as watered-down drinks,” one commenter on Reddit said. Others vouched for this line of thinking with comments like “R.I.P loot pool” and suggesting that EA is “stealing money” with each new addition. Of course, it’s not all negative. There are some people who are genuinely excited about a new way to customize their experience. One excited fan called for the immediate addition of a Nessie sticker pack, while others suggested a wealth of different Legend-specific items. There’s no way to know exactly how much the loot pool will be affected by these changes until things go live at the start of next season, but it’s certainly something that Respawn will have to keep an eye on.

Apex Legends players discover unbelievable Kings Canyon rat spots – Dexerto
Apex Legends players discover unbelievable Kings Canyon rat spots Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends is a game that is all about movement and teamfighting, but when you’re left alone and need to find a place to take cover, these Kings Canyon rat spots are the perfect option for getting away from the action. Kings Canyon is a big map with lots of nooks and crannies that are prime for hiding in if it comes down to it. While this might be annoying for more aggressive players and teams it’s better to know where to head when it’s your turn to be on the run. Also, if an opponent you’re chasing seems to vanish into thin air, you’ll want to have an idea of where to look to track down those easy kills. New King’s Canyon rat spots have been discovered These two particular locations come courtesy of Apex expert RossTheSquirrel and are incredibly simple but effective ways of disappearing into the shadows. The first one is simple: some Legends can clamber to the top of the palm trees located around the map. This means that whether you’re flying up with Valkyrie or climbing up like Revenant, anyone with enhanced mobility can take shelter inside of a nearby canopy. It might seem silly but the foliage of the trees makes it nearly impossible to spot opposing players that are standing still. Ross’ second tip is much more niche but it’s also easier to pull off, as anyone character can take advantage of it. There’s a specific bush near the rock archway respawn beacon that players can dive into and completely obscure themselves from view. If done right enemies will soar right past anyone hiding here thanks again to the plant life acting as a shroud for your character model. If you want to put them to the test you’ll want to do so before the rest of the community begins to catch on.

Apex Legends players discover trick to deal damage with Newcastle’s tactical – Dexerto
Apex Legends players discover trick to deal damage with Newcastle’s tactical Respawn EntertainmentNewcastle has certainly shaken things up a bit since his arrival in Apex Legends Season 13. Players have been selecting him and seeing how he performs in the game, but many haven’t actually realized that he’s capable of landing some extra damage with his Tactical. One of the many appealing charms of Apex Legends is how updates can tinker with Legends, add new ones, and ultimately shake up the game’s pick rates and meta. Each season a new Legend is introduced into the fray with Newcastle being the latest recruit to the roster. The Defensive Legend has a great Mobile Shield that’s incredibly effective during a game of Battle Royale, but some digging has found that the useful ability actually possesses offensive properties as well. Newcastle’s Mobile Shield Tactical dishes out damage A Reddit post titled “Might be common knowledge, but TIL [today I learned] you can deal damage with Newcastle’s tactical if you hit enemies directly,” has surprised quite a few players and questioned its power compared to other Legends’ abilities. The OP for the thread shared a video of the Tactical Ability in action, and with some precise aiming, you can indeed launch the shield as a projectile and damage an opponent for 20 HP if you hit them. Some players had absolutely no idea you could do such a thing: “Well it’s not common knowledge to me. Thanks op,” one player said, to which the OP replied by saying they accidentally stumbled across this “during a hectic fight right off of a hot drop.” A few players commented on how ridiculous it is that Newcastle’s small Shield throwable can cause 20 damage, whereas Mad Maggie’s drill does nothing: “A blunt drone the size of a dinner plate thrown by hand: 20 damage. A f**king drill designed to pierce/dig into surfaces and spew fire launched by a handheld machine designed to propel it long distances and pierce objects: bounces off.” All these factors are usually considered before a Legend is released into the game, so Respawn must have reasoning behind the decision to make Newcastle’s Tactical inflict damage.

Apex Legends players discover strange problem with Wraith Demon Whisper skin – Dexerto
Apex Legends players discover strange problem with Wraith Demon Whisper skin Respawn EntertainmentA new patch was pushed for Apex Legends on April 11, 2022, but a bug may have snuck along into the new game’s latest update. Apex Legends received patch 1.94 on April 11, 2022, as Respawn Entertainment looked to address a few issues that were plaguing the community at the time. These problems consisted of the various next-gen console, Control, and Bangalore Story Event fixes. But amid the devs’ remedies for their chaotic battle royale, there seemed to be a bug that persisted. Wraith Demon Whisper skin missing textures First uploaded to Reddit by Redditor GalaadJoachim, an image was shared to the social media forum with the caption: “How do you rate my new Wraith pose?” The pose in question saw Wraith at the end of her new banner animation, Void Magic, as she stared into the camera with a determined expression. Except, after the equipping their Wraith Demon Whisper skin plus their Void Magic animation, the character’s face had appeared as a desolate, textureless polygon – reminiscent of Nintendo N64 graphics. Other Redditors added their commentary on the strange problem by uploading images and videos of their own. Reddit user Wardite shared a 15-second video of their Wraith donning the aforementioned skin and playing the Void Magic animation, receiving the same results as GalaadJoachim. Then, to prove that the issue isn’t the animation itself but more so the animation working in tandem with the Demon Whisper skin, they played the banner pose again using the High Class cosmetic. This time, Wraith’s face was as fans expect it to be at the end of the pose: normal. The community attempted to brainstorm whether or not patch 1.94 had something to do with this, but the players were ultimately left befuddled at the strange problem. As Respawn Entertainment sent out a minor update on April 11, 2022, Apex Legends fans are hoping that a similar fix could be done for the Demon Whisper glitch.

Apex Legends players discover shocking hidden flaw with Wattson, and it’s game-breaking – Dexerto
Apex Legends players discover shocking hidden flaw with Wattson, and it’s game-breaking Respawn EntertainmentWhile many players have been basking in the excitement of there being a new Legend in Apex Legends, some have discovered a shocking flaw with Wattson that has sounded the alarm bells. The highly anticipated launch of Season 2 in Apex Legends introduced a lot of new content in the battle royale title, chief of which was the brand new Legend Wattson. As with all of the other Legends, Wattson came with three abilities: Spark of Genius Passive Ability, Perimeter Security Tactical Ability, and Interception Pylon Ultimate Ability. Of the three, the most talked-about ability has been the Perimeter Security, more commonly referred to as the electric fence, which some players, such as star Twitch streamer Michael ‘shroud‘ Grzesiek have called weak and underwhelming. However, a recent discovery concerning the fence has raised some major questions about Wattson, and whether or not she’s even worth using anymore at this point. Here are Wattson’s three abilities in Apex Legends. On July 4, a video began getting a lot of attention on Reddit that suggested there to be a major flaw with the Perimeter Security fence that had previously gone unnoticed. In the clip, a player who is using Mirage deployed its decoys, one of which ran straight into an enemy Wattson’s fence. The result was not what anyone would expect – the destruction of the decoy pinged the location of the player who had laid the fence, revealing exactly where and how far away they were. Funnily enough, the comments section of the Reddit post was a mix of those saying that this “could change everything” and users who were demanding that the post be taken down so that more players wouldn’t see it and use the exploit. What’s more, some players have claimed that, although the video only shows this happening with Mirage’s decoys, there are other Legends that can also use their abilities on an electric fence to find an enemy Wattson, such as Caustic. Will anyone want to use Wattson after knowing about the issue with the electric fence? This issue is obviously very concerning for several reasons. Firstly, it makes using Wattson a major liability, as her Tactical Ability is essentially worthless since it can be used by opponents to determine her location at any time. Secondly, it’s pretty alarming that Respawn Entertainment either didn’t know that such a major flaw existed with the new Legend, or chose not to address it prior to its release at the launch of Season 2. Considering that they’ve faced so much backlash over the past few months for all of the glitches, bugs, and exploits that have littered their game, it would seem logical that the developers would prioritize ensuring their Legend was mistake-proof, even if it meant missing a deadline.

Apex Legends players discover serious issue with Season 6 weapon skin – Dexerto
Apex Legends players discover serious issue with Season 6 weapon skin Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have discovered that the tier-100 G7 Scout camo in the Season 6 Battle Pass is heavily bugged when you try to aim down the sights. Season 6’s Battle Pass brings a ton of great cosmetics and skins for players to collect, but one of them, for the G7 Scout, has a glaring visual glitch that’s throwing some people off. The reliable G7 has been in Apex Legends since release and is a favorite mid to long-range battle rifle for many players, so when new skins come out for the weapon they’re usually pretty popular. There are two camos for the gun in the last two tiers of the current Battle Pass, but it’s the final skin unlocked at tier 110 that players are having trouble with due to a very annoying glitch. In the clip above you can see the bugged visuals as soon as the player pulls out the rifle, with small orange lights apparently just floating around the weapon. The tier-110 skin is obviously supposed to light up, but it seems like the graphics have been coded into the wrong spots. It’s not terribly intrusive when you’re just running around, but it becomes much more annoying when you actually try to look down the iron sights, which, with a weapon such as this one, is an absolute necessity. Here, the glowing dots actually get in the way of your vision and cut off your line of sight, save for a small opening right around the iron sights, making it still possible to see enemies but much more difficult to hit them. The user who posted the clip also said the bug popped up when they used different sights and optics as well, so not even that fire loot you might find around the map can help you out here. But there is some good news – this bug is pretty easy to avoid: just don’t equip the skin until it (hopefully) gets fixed. The only concern is that not many players have this camo yet, since it’s literally the final one in the Battle Pass, so it might be a while before there’s enough feedback about it for Respawn to notice.

Apex Legends players discover “sentient” Extended Mag bug – Dexerto
Apex Legends players discover “sentient” Extended Mag bug Respawn EntertainmentSome Apex Legends players have discovered a strange bug that made dropped Extended Mags “sentient,” causing them to move on their own. Apex Legends Season 20 is underway and early impressions already have some players calling it the best season yet. The Season 20 update introduced a plethora of changes to the game, including Legend buffs, weapon changes, system overhauls, and much more. However, with any update patch comes the chance to introduce some bugs to the game, and Season 20 seems to be no exception. Fans have discovered a strange new glitch that appears to make dropped extended mags “sentient.” Apex Legends fans uncover strange Extended Mag bug The bug in question comes from a user named kzranran on the Apex Legends subreddit, who made a post titled, “The extended mags are moving on its own lol.” The OP attached a clip of the bug that showed a Horizon player dropping three different extended mags from their inventory. Once the mags hit the ground they slowly began to move across the ground on their own. The three squadmates crowded around the mags as they slowly inched along without any sign of stopping. Many players in the comments were amused by the strange bug, with some making jokes about the odd items’ odd behavior. “Every year at this time the magazines migrate south for the mating season,” joked one fan. The comment is even funnier considering the mags are indeed moving south as evidenced by the in-game compass. Another player joked, “They’ve become sentient,” while a different fan said, “Loba perk. Upgrade items gravitate towards her black market for looting.” Thankfully, this bug is incredibly harmless and it’s unclear if it can even be replicated. Still, many Apex Legends fans got some enjoyment out of witnessing the ‘Great Magration of 2024.’

Apex Legends players discover secret “rat trail” on Storm Point – Dexerto
Apex Legends players discover secret “rat trail” on Storm Point Respawn EntertainmentApex Players have found a whole area on Storm Point not marked on maps that’s accessible to any hero in the game. So-called “rat spots” in Apex are various nooks and crannies spread throughout the game’s maps that let players hide out in places most wouldn’t even think to look. Storm Point being the latest Apex map, players have been hard at work exploring every inch of its layout. Now, a whole new area near Cenote Cave has been discovered — and it doesn’t take any movement abilities to get to. Storm Point’s “rat trail” As you can see in the video above, there is an outcropping of rocks that you can scurry on top of and reach a plant-covered area nestled on the side of a cliff. Almost the entire area is free from out-of-bounds timers, and if you do run into one it’s pretty simple to just move into safety. Once you’re in the spot, you can chill indefinitely, which makes this a very clutch little area if the circle ends up in the Southwest corner of the map, where the Cenote Cave is located. If you aren’t in the spot, it could be worth sending a few shots or a grenade up there, just to make sure no other players are taking advantage of it either. Like we mentioned, you don’t need a legend with movement abilities to reach this area, even though it would make things a bit easier. That being said though, a Gibraltar dropping from out of nowhere might be the last thing opponents expect.

Apex Legends players discover perfect high ground “rat spot” on Storm Point – Dexerto
Apex Legends players discover perfect high ground “rat spot” on Storm Point This hiding spot on Apex Legends’ Storm Point is only accessible via Valkyrie ultimate and it places players in a spot that likely should be restricted from play in the first place. Apex’s focus on enhanced movement is a signature quality of the game. From Octane’s jump pad to Pathfinder’s grappling hook and zipline combination, there have been no shortage of ways to access unintentional hiding spots on each of the game’s four battle royale maps. This latest one might take the cake though, as it serves as both the perfect place to fight from and as one of the best places to get away from the action without being sussed out by another team. Apex Legends players discover Valkyrie-exclusive “rat spot” on Storm Point In the clip we see the Valkyrie on Loba’s team start her Skyward Dive while on top of a rock over by the prowler’s nest at the nature reserve. From there the group ascends to the very top of the map before landing on a nearby care package that has been caught on top of the rocky outcropping in front of them. This area looks like it should be out of bounds but instead the squad lands there freely and loots the drop without ever incurring the usual death timer. As one user predicted in the comments, it’s likely that this spot will get a lot of attention from players who are confident in their ability with long-range weapons: “Someone with a charge rifle up there could kill and be untouchable at the same time. Another commenter suggested that while the offensive advantage is immediately obvious, it’s also the perfect place to hide out if your squad goes down or you need to buy some time until they can get to you: “I know people are going to abuse this to fight from high ground but I just want to use it as a rat spot once and see how it goes.” While technically not a violation of the game’s rules, this spot is still unfair to any team without a Valkyrie and will likely see a patch in the future.

Apex Legends players discover nifty Caustic & Fuse combo to trap enemies – Dexerto
Apex Legends players discover nifty Caustic & Fuse combo to trap enemies Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends has 18 different characters that players can pick from, but not all of them work well together. The community has discovered a new combination involving Caustic and Fuse that’s trapping enemies to death. Players are constantly looking for ways to innovate Apex Legends. Whether it’s learning new movements or discovering new combos, the game is evolving. While each of the 18 different characters has unique kits, there are many different ways to pair some up and create a good team composition. Apex Legends players discover Caustic & Fuse ultimate combo There are tons of different legends that players try out together to see which ones works the best as a unit. While most comps usually include a Wraith or Octane, there may be an off-meta pick to shake up the game. Read More: Apex Legends players beg Respawn for server & audio fixes: “Fix your game before it dies” – This Reddit post by ‘ShinigamiTrinity’ shows off a deadly combo that players can start using in their Apex games that might just become the new meta. All you need is Caustic and Fuse ult and some coordination. When you take Caustic’s smoke bomb ult and pair it up with Fuse’s ring of fire ultimate, things can get a little hectic for enemies. As seen in the clip, you can create a giant ring that encloses foes. The ultimates themselves are not guaranteed to kill enemies but they will certainly push them out of position and give players a clean line of sight. While these two characters may not fit into the current meta, this newly discovered combination can catch enemies by surprise when they get bombarded with flames and gas. Next time you drop in, give this duo a try and see if it’s as deadly as it seems.

Apex Legends players discover insane Crypto stealth exploit in Season 22 – Dexerto
Apex Legends players discover insane Crypto stealth exploit in Season 22 Respawn EntertainmentMere hours after Season 22 went live, players already discovered a game-changing exploit with his new stealth passive that allows him to do things he really shouldn’t be able to while completely invisible. Crypto has been strong for a long time when it comes to coordinated, high-level play, but he’s really struggled when it comes to being effective in the hands of an average player. He’s not a very popular Legend. So, Season 22 gave Crypto the ability to stealth while using his drone, something that makes him much more reliable in sticky situations. That stealth lets this Legend do some things that may not be intended. Players will surely figure out more as the Season goes on, but there’s already a strong exploit: Healing while stealthed. Apex Legends player Phisheyy was one of the first to discover that, if you pull out a healing item as you’re tossing the drone, you can heal while fully stealthed. However, there are some caveats to this exploit. If you’ve already got the drone out and are just tapping into the feed, it doesn’t work. The healing item will only go off if you toggle it just as the throwing animation is going out. That said, you can immediately fly around in the drone as the heal is going off, meaning your drone’s location won’t be a dead giveaway as to where you’re hiding if you chuck it out fast enough. Additionally, if you pop a Phoenix Kit in stealth doing this exploit and immediately EMP, you can reliably enter a fight with full HP while being in the radius of your own EMP. It’s possible to do this with a Shield Battery as well, but the timing is much tighter on not damaging your own shield with it. Crypto has always lacked the ability to make an immediate and meaningful impact on a fight if he’s already in the mix, but this exploit gives smart players some huge outplay potential.

Apex Legends players discover ingenious Loba interaction with Loot Vault – Dexerto
Apex Legends players discover ingenious Loba interaction with Loot Vault Respawn EntertainmentA newly discovered interaction between Loba and the Vaults in Apex Legends alerts nearby opponents of precious loot being stolen. After reintroducing Worlds Edge in Season 5, the Respawn devs spruced up the place to account for the 13th Legend. This included a small addition to how Loot Vaults react after precious items inside were lifted by the High Society Thief. Plotting to get access to the Loot Vault without a key, YouTuber ‘Henry VIII The Original Thot Slayer’ ran up to their Loba’s Black Market Boutique where there was Legendary gear listed. After taking one of the items, the ult was destroyed and a trail, presumably the other vaulted items, went back to their place. The act also set off the alarms that the Loot Vaults are now equipped with. The sound was blaring and consistent, as if the directors of the Apex Games prepped the Arena with the new renowned thief in mind. In a battle royale as tense as Apex, the map can fall silent for moments at a time. The blaring sirens would be a dead giveaway for hunters to redirect toward the nearest Vault to catch looting Lobas off-guard. Though Loba gets away with a potential game-changing item, the tradeoff lies in the apparent danger of alerting nearby foes as well as the amount of items that are allowed to be stolen. “You can’t see it from perspective but, you can take 1 gold item then this happens,” user ‘Dropammoplease’ said in reply to the video. The community noted that this was a great example of foresight from the devs so that Loba’s wouldn’t run rampant on World’s Edge with her ultimate. With the unique capabilities of her Black Market Boutique, the locked Loot Vaults would have made Loba an instant priority pick for people to harvest the Legendary items. “That’s a pretty cool way to balance it,” ‘MawBTS1989’ said. “You can grab 1 high tier item but you can’t completely ransack the place.” Though committed Loba’s can keep the five-finger discount for one vaulted item with every ultimate they acquire. So a team with enough persistence and Ultimate Accelerants can theoretically clear the room – taking away all the high-tier loot from the hardworking Legends who went through the trouble of getting a Vault Key.

Apex Legends players discover hilarious end to Loba’s Execution – Dexerto
Apex Legends players discover hilarious end to Loba’s Execution Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are finding that Loba’s Executions can lead to their untimely demise in the battle royale – especially if their spatial awareness is a bit lacking. Taken by ‘Yvkarist’ on Twitter, a player wanted to finesse their opponent with the High Society Thief’s acrobatic finisher. The only problem was that they had barely enough space to stick the landing. The Crypto on the ground was near the edge of the map’s cliffs, with an instant death fall lying mere feet away from his eventual grave. While the game gave plenty of room to execute and walk away, the animation left the player in an awkward spot. Moments after, Loba can be seen moving ever so slightly, straight to their elimination and one of the most unfortunate fails to come out of the Season 5 Legend’s gameplay. “I guess he deleted the game after this…,” Reddit user ‘blitz3nn’ said of the outcome. The play looked near majestic given its setting, but that would soon be the crux of the accidental death. Just with most other Legend executions, the stylistic movement isn’t just an animation. The character model in the game actually moves, ducks, and even blinks into the interdimensional rift, temporarily affecting the character. When Loba was done with her victim, the five steps out toward the cliff she took afterward put Yvkarist on the edge. But he didn’t seem to notice before it was too late. Not long after the kill sequence ended did Loba plummet to her doom, making it a far more memorable finisher that it otherwise would have been. There’s been instances of executions across titles putting the player in a precarious situation. Modern Warfare had an issue with Ghost’s finisher on Rust at the turn of Season 2. Sneaking up on an opponent made him pivot toward the back of the opponent, but would result in him falling to his death if it took place near a ledge. Though Loba’s finisher didn’t cause something quite as heinous as Ghost’s did, Apex Legends players should still pay careful attention to their surroundings if they’re trying to finesse a kill.

Apex Legends players discover ghosts haunting Olympus After Dark map – Dexerto
Apex Legends players discover ghosts haunting Olympus After Dark map Respawn EntertainmentGhosts have been spotted in Apex Legends haunting the Olympus After Dark map and the paranormal activity has been spooking a lot of players. Apex Legends’ Fight or Fright event kicked off on October 4 and as always, Respawn has gone the extra mile to celebrate the spooky holiday. With three different LTMs on rotation over the course of four weeks and the debut of the Olympus After Dark map, Respawn has definitely knocked the update out of the park. Despite all of this new content, it’s often the smaller details that garner the most attention from the community, especially when they’re mysterious and hard to spot. Well, that’s certainly the case this Halloween, as players have noticed the Olympus After Dark map is haunted by ghosts, but you have to keep your eyes peeled to spot them. Ghosts discovered on Olympus After Dark in Apex Legends One of the most exciting additions from the recent Halloween update is without a doubt Olympus After Dark. Respawn has transformed the lush map into a mysterious, spooky, and eerie location that has players on the edge of their seats in every skirmish. Not only that, it turns out players aren’t the only beings on Olympus After Dark map, as competitors have spotted ghosts haunting a variety of POIs. These blue paranormal entities only appear for brief few seconds, so you’ll have to be constantly on the lookout to spot one. As showcased in @volucris_liga’s clip above, there seem to be a lot of them located around the Rift POI, so head over there if you’d like to take a closer look at the ghosts. While these mysterious apparitions are easy to ignore if you’ve seen them before, there’s no doubt they’re going to trick a few players into thinking an enemy is nearby. Either way, this easter egg has got a lot of players excited and it’s these details that make Respawn’s maps so interesting.

Apex Legends players discover game-breaking Bloodhound glitch – Dexerto
Apex Legends players discover game-breaking Bloodhound glitch For a battle royale game featuring thousands of players a day, Apex Legends has a surprisingly low number of bugs. That doesn’t mean it’s completely absent of them and this Bloodhound bug is potentially game-breaking. Apex Legends is the hot commodity on the battle royale market right now and is the first true competitor Fortnite has had in quite some time. The game was able to beat Fortnite to many major milestones and is in the midst its inaugural Season 1, which features a Battle Pass full of unlockables for players to grind. While Apex Legends certainly has less noticeable bugs than Fortnite, there are still some major issues plaguing the game. The latest glitch seems to happen more often on Bloodhound and completely wipes out the HUD where you would normally find shield and health packs. Fans first drew attention to this bug in a Reddit thread where players shared their experiences with the bug. This might be a major Bloodhound problem It sounds like this bug persists across PC, PS4 and Xbox One and can affect anyyone across all platforms. The image above is a recreation of what it looks like in game. The original author wrote that they experienced this bug the most on Bloodhound, something that was backed up by other commenters. “I’ve ran into this bug a lot, mostly when I’m playing Bloodhound,” Reddit user koelol said. “Think it’s most prevalent during his ult. Makes it really annoying when I’m trying to quickly heal up and my hud is invisible so I can’t even tell what I have.” The bug doesn’t seem widespread enough to force Respawn to release a hotfix immediately but the problem is visible enough where something should be done about it in future patches. Apex Legends isn’t quite on the level of Fortnite where it receives updates weekly, but it is possible we can get there if the game continues to remain as popular as it is.

Apex Legends players discover frustrating problem with Mirage event – Dexerto
Apex Legends players discover frustrating problem with Mirage event Respawn Entertainment’s addition of the Mirage event for the festive season was yet another way of refreshing Apex Legends, although some players aren’t exactly happy with how it’s been executed. The Holo-Day Bash event started on December 13 and sparked a number of big changes in-game, including the arrival of holiday-themed skins, a Winter Express limited time mode and even a Town Takeover between Thermal Station and Lava Fissure. However, while the bundle of new content has largely been met with a positive response, members of the game’s online community have identified one problem that has put a bit of a dampener on the whole thing since it kicked off. As players will be well aware by now, audio issues are rife in battle royale games. Whether it be Apex, Fortnite Battle Royale or PUBG – each of the game’s development teams have faced scrutiny about how footsteps sound in those titles. Another audio issue, unfortunately for fans of the Apex Games, has been a major downside of the Mirage event. According to a thread on the Apex Legends subreddit, players claim that the sound from the event’s fireworks can be heard so loudly across the World’s Edge map that they could be mistaken for footsteps. User mikegoblin wrote: “I can hear them halfway across the map sounding like little footsteps every few seconds. It’s very distracting.” A number of other users chimed in on the debate, with some claiming that it’s so far down the line that there’s little chance of Respawn rolling out a fix to the audio, with it coming to a close on January 7. Clearly, though, not being able to distinguish which sounds are footsteps and fireworks is a major issue. Whether that proves to be true or not remains to be seen, although it’s worth noting that there’s been no mention of it being resolved in a future update – according to information from the official Apex Legends Trello board. It’s been a wild ride for many players during this event – interacting with a brand new train, as well as kitting their characters out with festive outfits. While there’s not much time left before it comes to a close, fans will be hoping they get a chance to play during the event without fireworks being as loud as they are at the time of writing.

Apex Legends players discover frustrating bug with Bloodhound’s Tracker – Dexerto
Apex Legends players discover frustrating bug with Bloodhound’s Tracker Apex Legends players have discovered a frustrating new bug with Bloodhound’s passive ability Tracker, complaining that it no longers shows the exact time that an opponent’s footsteps appeared. Abilities are a major reason why Apex Legends is different from other battle royale titles, as players select their characters before the match starts, with each Legend offering different abilities to give you an upper hand over opponents depending on your playstyle. For those hoping to hunt down enemies, Bloodhound is the perfect character to stalk your opposition, with his Tracker ability allowing players to see the footsteps of opponents up to 90 seconds after they were placed, and even showing how long ago they were there. Knowing exactly how long ago a player was there can be extremely useful as you plan your next move, but since the release of the Apex Legends Season 3 update, some have complained that they are no longer able to see the timer, making it difficult to estimate the time at which the footsteps appeared. Unsurprisingly, this issue has not been a popular one among fans of the battle royale game, with one user asking when Respawn will fix the “frustrating” bug, with the fact that it wasn’t included in the patch notes hinting that this is an unintentional change. Reddit user Cowboy_Wally has also noticed the problem, calling it “annoying” that the timer no longer shows the exact time, and explaining that they now have to take a “wild guess” as to when the opponent was there. While the timer has disappeared, there is a way to estimate the length of time between the footsteps appearing and you finding them, with lolschrauber explaining that the ring around the timer will slowly disappear as time goes on, with the full circle meaning that it is fresh, and a half-circle revealing that they were there around 30-45 seconds ago. While many Apex Legends players appear to be suffering from this issue, developers Respawn Entertainment have yet to address it, leaving fans concerned that a fix may be some way off. In fact, the bug hasn’t even been added to the Apex Legends Development Tracker, which means Respawn have yet to investigate it, never mind create a fix to be included in a future patch.

Apex Legends players discover an Easter Egg with a heartbreaking backstory – Dexerto
Apex Legends players discover an Easter Egg with a heartbreaking backstory Jason McCord / Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have discovered an Easter Egg in-game that isn’t quite like the others. It wasn’t long after the release of Apex Legends on February 4 that players found the first of the game’s Easter Eggs – little “Nessy” statues dotted around the map. These Nessies are a continuation of a long-running series of Respawn Entertainment Easter Eggs, having also been found in both Titanfall games. In Apex, if you find all 10 of them in King’s Canyon you’ll even trigger a secret Easter Egg that sees a giant Nessy appear in the water at the edge of the map. Read more: Apex Legends Abilities Guide – How long does it take for each Legend to charge their Tactical and Ultimate abilities? – The Nessies aren’t the only Easter Eggs in the game, however, and one has a distinctly more somber origin than Respawn’s running joke. In a corner of Market, located right in the heart of the map, there’s a little figurine of a black dog sitting atop a cushion. Ahead of it, there’s a photo of a couple, and behind a picture of the real dog to whom it’s a tribute. The couple are Jason McCord, Lead Level Designer at Respawn Entertainment, and his wife, and the dog is theirs, named Shadie. After players discovered the shrine, McCord revealed that Shadie had passed away during the development of Apex Legends. Shadie was our best friend, and so I wanted her to live on in this little corner of the map. It legit makes me feel better to visit this area sometimes. Thanks for reading!— Jason McCord (@MonsterclipRSPN) February 7, 2019 In tribute to his best friend, McCord had her immortalized in Apex. Shadie will be forever sat with her owners, tucked away in a little corner of what has quickly become one of the most popular games in the world.

Apex Legends players discover absurd new “mantle jump” mechanic – Dexerto
Apex Legends players discover absurd new “mantle jump” mechanic Respawn EntertainmentThere’s no shortage of ways to surprise your enemies with movement in Apex Legends, but this new “mantle jump” mechanic might take the cake in terms of shock value. From punch boosting to tap-strafing, Apex Legends has always been a playground for innovation. While new movement developments are happening every day across the internet, it’s pretty rare that players stumble upon one that is quite as shocking as this one. It’s a little bit complicated, but once the pieces are in place, there’s nothing stopping good players from putting this to use and blowing their friends’ minds as they go. Apex Legends’ new “mantle jump” is absolutely unbelievable This new technique actually combines a few older movement pieces together into one super combo that will send players soaring over their enemies’ heads. It consists primarily of the Super Jump (in which a Legend interacts with a rope and jumps at the exact same time) and a mantle skip, which is a touch more complicated but is explained here. If both pieces are performed exactly as intended, the results are absolutely mind blowing – and could single-handedly save a life in a close encounter. The creator of this trick, u/thevilinside, left a detailed report on how to do it, but these are the basic steps: Jump off the zipline towards the ledge. – Start holding the Hold Crouch key immediately after leaving the zipline. – Hit the ledge. – Look all the way down, – Super Jump. – Even with the extra instructions in the thread it will take quite a lot of practice to nail it down. The good news is that if someone does master it, they’ll practically be unkillable anytime there’s a zipline nearby. For even better results, the most dedicated players are likely to pair this with some of Apex’s other movement abilities, so don’t be surprised to see a Horizon reach Mach 5 off of a regular zipline in the future.

Apex Legends players disappointed with “underwhelming” 120 fps console update – Dexerto
Apex Legends players disappointed with “underwhelming” 120 fps console update Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have explained their disappointment with the next-gen console upgrade in Season 20, claiming the long-awaited update is “underwhelming.” Apex Legends Season 20 finally arrived on February 13, and although there were no new considerable additions to the battle royale, it was still a massive update, bringing a breath of fresh air for players. Season 20 saw the introduction of Legend Upgrades, the Ranked getting reverted to the old system, as well as a ton of weapon and Legend tweaks. But, along with all that came the long-awaited next-generation console update, allowing Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 players to finally experience 120hz gameplay. However, the Apex Legends community looks to be disappointed. Apex players disappointed with next-gen update On February 13, shortly after Season 20’s release, several Reddit threads appeared as players discussed the next-gen console upgrade. “120 fps console update feels underwhelming,” one player wrote. They continued: “The visuals are absolutely terrible. If you more than 50 m away everything looks washed out in pixelated and muggy, I can only imagine how it will look in game when is hard enough to see people as it is. “There’s no reason why the Xbox series X and the PS5 visuals are cap them two consoles can run 120 FPS at 1440 easy I can’t speak for the series S, but I’m pretty sure it probably could too. it just feels underwhelming.” Not only that, in a different post, one explained how they’re let down by the update and super disappointed after supposedly waiting years for the upgrade. “Can’t believe I’ve waiting years for 120hz for it to be this bad,” they said. “It literally looks like I’m playing on a switch. It seems like 720p maximum. Anyone else super disappointed? No other 120hz game on ps5 looks this bad.” In the replies, many more agreed, explaining it feels underwhelming. “I agree, such a long awaited update and feels underwhelming,” said one. “I do enjoy smoothness a lot, but resolution drops way too much.. I was expecting a compromise, but not to this extent – feels good, but looks sh*t on a 4K TV.” “Underwhelming is an understatement, and you’re being too nice. It looks like absolute shit,” another player hit out. “And maybe it’s just me, but did they manage to make audio even worse? Again?..” Others are hopeful that the quality issues are a bug, and improvements will come as time goes on. “I’m going to hope there’s a bug or something and it actually isn’t this bad,” one wrote. “At least this gives me time to pick out a good monitor while they hopefully improve/fix it.” Nevertheless, we’ll just have to wait and see if improvements come in future updates.

Apex Legends players disappointed with lack of Christmas event and worried for future – Dexerto
Apex Legends players disappointed with lack of Christmas event and worried for future Respawn EntertainmentChristmas has come and gone, and, while other like-minded titles celebrated the holiday, Apex Legends was missing in action. Fans were disappointed by the glaring omission and shared their opinions on what this means for the battle royale. The end of the year usually marks a large influx of holiday-themed content in gaming’s popular titles. For example, MW3 celebrated CODMAS, a Christmas-inspired event across all modes, and Fortnite brought back Winterfest. In the past, Apex Legends has done a neat little ode to Christmas with Winter Express, but this year, the event was completely MIA. This complete omission of anything Christmas-related has fans upset, with some indicating it’s a further step towards the worrying future of the game. Apex Legends players discuss the lack of a Christmas event In a post shared to the game’s subreddit, miragemain42000 recapped every player’s feelings. “No Christmas for Apex?” they asked. They continued: “I feel like Apex was a lot more festive in past years,” referencing the much-maligned Revenant Uprising event, nor a simple “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Holidays.” As one summarized the general feeling amongst the player base: “Feels like a red flag to me about the game’s health atm.” Another response highlighted another concern amongst players “But they are letting us buy holiday skins again that’s the spirit right?” Depending on who you ask, the Winter Express has split feedback. Some fans loved it, while others didn’t due to balancing issues, repetition, and bugs galore. Official developer feedback has made it seem like it was a balancing issue that prevented the team from bringing it back. That said, Christmas wasn’t completely gone from Apex Legends. There was a skin sale, the announcement of which had players even more desperate to see something in the game celebrating the holiday season other than some themed skins. We’ll see what next year brings for Apex Legends, but to all the Apex Legends players, happy holidays from us at Dexerto.

Apex Legends players disappointed by Wattson’s “ugly” Heirloom – Dexerto
Apex Legends players disappointed by Wattson’s “ugly” Heirloom Respawn EntertainmentAfter revealing Wattson’s Heirloom in the Raiders Collection event patch notes, Apex Legends players are not happy with Respawn’s “disappointing” design. When it comes to cosmetics in Apex Legends, none are more sought-after than the Legend-specific Heirlooms. These unbelievably rare items can only be obtained during limited-time collection events or at a 1 in 500 drop rate in packs, so it’s safe to say players have to be extremely dedicated to get their hands on one. The latest Legend to be receiving her very own Heirloom is Wattson in the Raiders Collection event, set to kick off on December 7. Ahead of the update, Respawn revealed the full design of the Energy Reader, as well as showcasing all of the special animations. Unfortunately, the Heirloom has received an overwhelming amount of criticism from the community, with players labeling it as “ugly” and “disappointing”. Apex Legends players are not happy with Wattson’s Heirloom After dropping the Raiders Collection event patch notes on December 2, it wasn’t long before Wattson’s Energy Reader Heirloom was posted to the Apex Legends subreddit, with a thread showcasing all of the animations. Players quickly began to criticize Respawn’s design choice, questioning why the devs decided to create an “ugly” supermarket price scanner instead of an actual weapon: “So many cool concepts of a legend who is about freaking electricity, they went with a price scanner instead.” Others just expressed their overwhelming disappointment after waiting so long for their main Legend to receive an Heirloom: “It’s such a disappointment for me personally, easily the worst heirloom so far, don’t like the idea at all.” On Twitter, alphaINTEL asked their followers whether they loved or hated the new design, and the responses were mixed. Wattson Heirloom… Love it or hate it? pic.twitter.com/VzeL9mdzwR — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) December 3, 2021 For some, it wasn’t that they hated the design, it was more that they expected more after waiting so long for Wattson’s Heirloom to be released: “I feel like all the Wattson Mains deserved something better for waiting so long.” Of course, not everyone agreed, with some players loving the unique design and praising the way it integrates Nessie into the Heirloom: “I think it has a unique design compared to anything else out there and they added a very cool concept to integrate the Nessie.” Either way, the Heirloom will be arriving on December 7 and the community will finally be able to see the Energy Reader in action. As with any cosmetic, the design will always come down to preference, but it’ll be interesting to see if Respawn makes any tweaks after the reaction from the community.

Apex Legends players disappointed by “useless” Season 20 Perks – Dexerto
Apex Legends players disappointed by “useless” Season 20 Perks EAApex Legends players hopping into Season 20 have noticed that not all characters EVO Perks are built equal, with many feeling let down by Perk bonuses for characters like Horizon and Wraith. With Apex Legends having a rat-heavy meta for a while with players constantly camping in different parts of the map to play for better placement, a number of changes were made in Season 20 to try and combat the trend of sitting and waiting for the ring to close. One of the biggest changes in this respect was the choice to remove EVO shields and replace them with a character-specific evolution tree with Perks that players get for dealing damage and doing other activities like reviving/respawning teammates, wiping squads, and doing damage. While this system has definitely encouraged players to fight more, the Perk rewards have been underwhelming for many. Apex Legends players feel some Season 20 Perks are “trash” When it comes to balancing Apex Legends’ strongest characters, some Legends have been a bit more challenging to rein in than others for the dev team. Legends with high mobility and utility like Horizon, Wraith, and Valkyrie have always been very effective. And, though all three of those Legends have been nerfed numerous times over the years, they still maintain a high pick rate and presence. Now, with some Legends having perks that are much more useful than others, some players are convinced that their mains were purposely given “trash” Perks. Horizon’s options, for instance, give her two Perks that are only effective on death boxes. Meanwhile, other characters have options that give them extra charges of their tactical, drastically reduced cooldowns on some abilities, extra ammo, and many other useful Perks in just the first tree. What’s more, Horizon doesn’t fare much better with her purple tier of Perks. She can either get 30 seconds off the cooldown on her ultimate or 5 seconds off the cooldown for her tactical. Meanwhile, someone like Ash gets the ability to either snare multiple enemies with her tactical Arc Snare or another charge of the ability entirely. There’s a clear difference in power level between the Perks of many Legends, leading to players believing that some characters’ Perks just aren’t worth the effort. “I think they’re meant to be near useless, because horizon is already good enough,” claimed one Redditor. “Could make so many interesting and unique perks, but most are pretty meh. Then there’s Mad Maggie, f*ck those are some good perks that actually changes her abilities!” lamented another user. Meanwhile, others believe the choices between Perks are a bit underwhelming, with one option being clearly better than the other in many cases: “The Octane choice – less stim damage or less ordinance damage. Like wut? You’re literally playing Octane and using his stim 30 times a game. Why is this a choice?” While it’s the first season with the Perk system being implemented, there are players who clearly feel as if their favorite Legends got the short end of the stick. However, giving strong Legends better Perks could wildly throw off balance. It remains to be seen if some of the Legends with more bland Perks get some changes in coming patches.

Apex Legends players disappointed by one odd feature about new Legend’s design – Dexerto
Apex Legends players disappointed by one odd feature about new Legend’s design Respawn EntertainmentAfter watching the recent Defiance launch trailer, a lot of Apex Legends players were disappointed about the size of Mad Maggie’s arms, arguing that she should have more muscle. Following months of community speculation, Respawn finally revealed that Mad Maggie will be the new Legend joining the roster in Season 12. To show how she arrived in the Outlands, the devs put together the short cinematic showing Maggie being pushed out of a plane onto Olympus by the Syndicate. While the majority of the video was well-received, a small design choice has frustrated a lot of Apex players, and it involves Maggie’s “twig arms”. Apex players aren’t happy with the size of Maggie’s arms While the Defiance launch trailer isn’t necessarily representative of Maggie’s model in-game, a lot players were frustrated by the size of her arms in the cinematic. Taking to Twitter, some members of the community were confused why Respawn felt the need to give Maggie “twig arms”. Claiming the design choice isn’t accurate and just “doesn’t make sense”, it’s obvious players want the devs to ensure this isn’t the case in-game. It’s just so… Exhausting… Look at that twig arm…. It just doesn’t make sense… 😔 pic.twitter.com/whxiIHsxNR — nurbz 🐀 (@Nurbzwax) January 27, 2022 According to them, based on Maggie’s actions in the past and her background as a freedom fighter, it would make sense for her to have bigger muscles. A lot of comparisons have been made with Fuse, and how big he is compared to his old friend in the Defiance trailer. Keep in mind, the post below has been edited and isn’t showing how Maggie’s arms look in the cinematic. give this woman muscle please pic.twitter.com/iAlJjdopJX — minty! 🩷🦑💀✨ (@mintcrows) January 27, 2022 For now, it’s just a case of waiting for February 8 and seeing how big Maggie’s arms are in-game compared to the cinematic. It’s possible the design choice has only been made for the trailer, but with just under two weeks before Season 12 drops, it’s unlikely Respawn have time to change her model.

Apex Legends players disappointed as Season 21 breaks five year tradition – Dexerto
Apex Legends players disappointed as Season 21 breaks five year tradition Respawn EntertainmentThe newest season for Apex Legends released without a launch trailer, which has led to disappointment among the fans. In the past, each season of the game came with an animated trailer that shows off what is happening in terms of the lore, as well giving insight into who the new character is that is joining the games. These trailers help explain the changes to maps, gameplay, and continue giving more glimpses into the story that is playing out beyond just the Apex Games themselves. However, this new season curiously launched without such a video, and it’s leaving the playerbase feeling a little underwhelmed by the release. On the Apex Legends subreddit, one fan posts that this decision has “ruined the lore impact” of the new season. They explain how the massive story beats of this season deserved to be expanded upon through a trailer of some kind. Instead, what should be a big event feels like the devs doing the “bare minimum.” This big event is the arrival of another dimension crashing into that of Apex Legends, bringing with it the character of Alter. This is a big deal and has some massive implications for the future of the game, but Apex players feel like there just isn’t much of a story being told. “Apex’s launch trailers are sometimes truly awesome, so missing one is pretty lame. They could have hyped up Alter something crooked,” one commented. It’s a weird decision, and one that no one has any idea as to why it was made in the first place. The devs have not commented as to why they elected not to release a trailer for this season. However, Respawn has finally released the short video, titled Altered Horizons. The 4-minute story shows Horizon attempting to return to the past, only for Alter to appear and attack her. Things take an interesting turn when Alter tells Horizon that Newton needs her, Newton being the name of her son and creator of Pathfinder. It’s a brief glimpse into Alter’s place in the game’s lore and provides plenty of questions that the community can look forward to being answered during the season and beyond.

Apex Legends players disappointed as MRVN evo shield trick removed – Dexerto
Apex Legends players disappointed as MRVN evo shield trick removed Respawn/EAApex Legends players have been left confused and disappointed by Respawn removing the ability to get shield progress from MRVNs given that the devs had never called it a “glitch” previously. When Respawn Entertainment introduced Storm Point as a new map back in Season 11, the devs made it possible for players to get free loot from the Spiders and Prowlers that infested the map. On top of getting ammo refills, weapon attachments, and other high-level loot, fighting off the waves of creatures also allowed players to get some easy level progress for their evo-shield. Fast forward to Season 12, and with the return of Olympus, some players also noted that attacking the harmless Loot MRVNs also had a similar effect on their shields, even if it didn’t charge as much as on Storm Point. Well, with Respawn dropping their patch notes for the upcoming Warriors Collection Event, they’ve now labeled that as a glitch, and will be removing the ability to get shield charge from MRVNs – no matter how small it might be. As a result, some players are questioning why the devs would make such a change, seeing as they hadn’t highlighted it as an issue previously. “I’ve won games from this s**t, bad change,” commented ImARoadCone_. “I kinda liked it and it didn’t really give a huge advantage only a small boost. Legitimately thought it was intentional by them,” said another player. Plenty of fans echoed that comment as well, stating that they never knew it was a bug in the first place, seeing as you’re meant to attack the MRVNs anyway in the hopes of getting an arm for better loot. “I don’t understand why it can’t be a thing. Only gave like 50 to your shields,” added another fan who was left confused by the change. Plenty of players have promised to still be pretty evil towards the MRVNs, even if they’re no longer getting shield charges. Who knows, it might even inspire Respawn to give us an LTM where the bots rise up and fight back.

Apex Legends players disappointed as Horizon is skipped for Heirloom yet again – Dexerto
Apex Legends players disappointed as Horizon is skipped for Heirloom yet again Respawn/EAApex Legends players have been left frustrated that Horizon has, once again, been passed over for an Heirloom as Ash has now got one. While Apex Legends has a whole host of cosmetics for players to collect, there are none more sought-after than Heirlooms. These unique melee weapons, which don’t give you any sort of competitive advantage, tie into the character’s backstory and are typically limited to one per season – with them being released during a collection event. Ash will receive hers – the Strongest Link – during the upcoming Sun Squad collection event, becoming the 15th legend to get an Heirloom set. However, fans are disappointed that longer-standing legends have been passed over in favor of the simulacrum pilot, especially when it comes to Horizon. Apex Legends fans still begging for Horizon Heirloom after all this time It’s been close to 900 days since the Gravitational Manipulator was introduced to the battle royale and has still yet to get an Heirloom, being passed over by multiple newer legends. At this point, its also nailed on that she’ll surpass the 910 days wait that Crypto had for his Heirloom. That fact has annoyed some fans who are desperate to see her get one. “She’ll be the longest one in apex history so far that’s not cool!” said one. “I thought she was next. I’ve had shards for over a year now cmonnnnnnn,” added another. “Had the shards sitting for so long now that I’ve dropped the game since there is nothing Horizon related this battle pass,” another commented. “By the time it comes out I would probably lose interest altogether.” Other players suggested that Horizon mains may finally get their wish when the next Heirloom comes around, but we’ll have to wait and see. Heirlooms do typically come with a character buff too, and Horizon’s recent nerf has caused her to slip down the pick rate charts a bit, so it would make sense.

Apex Legends players devise simple ways to improve Firing Range dummies – Dexerto
Apex Legends players devise simple ways to improve Firing Range dummies Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends added a Firing Range to the game in November, 2019 and the game’s playerbase is still coming up with inventive ways to make it an even better practice environment. The point of a Firing Range is simple: You want players to have an opportunity to warm up and practice elements of the game (like different guns, characters or mobility techs) without needing to worry about the circle or enemies gunning them down. Adding this training mode was therefore a highly acclaimed update, but the title’s fans have come up with a few new ways to improve it – namely giving hitbox and damage rate options for the game’s dummies. While players can easily practice different guns, attachments and equipment, they are limited to the training dummies’ default hitboxes and damage rates. For a game like Apex Legends, where different Legends have vastly different attributes, this runs counterintuitive to how players should be able to practice. Overwatch, similarly dependent on differing abilities and roles, has Custom Game options, where players can create fully simulated environments to practice against A.I.-controlled heroes of differing difficulties. Although Respawn Entertainment may not have the time or capacity to implement something like that just yet, adding customization to the practice dummies would go a long way. As suggested by ‘ActuallyAcey’ on Reddit, giving the dummies characteristics like “Low Profile” and “Fortified” would enable players to more efficiently train for heroes they typically struggle with. While this is a great first step, other fans jumped on to make other suggestions: Different equipment for dummies (e.g. helmets) and movement options (e.g. crouch-spamming or strafing). This issue similarly arose in Overwatch’s Practice Range, where fans were dissatisfied with the simple training bots available to them and eventually pushed for the option to spawn any character in the game to practice with. Even Overwatch’s initial training bots displayed movement and some shooting, however minimal, and that’s what Apex Legends fans are now clamoring for. Dummies are great for simply practicing your comfort on different guns’ recoil, firing rate and damage, but an ideal training experience would permit players to train for specific Legends that may be ruining their games. In the past, characters like Pathfinder have driven players mad due to insane evasiveness while Gibraltar has felt like a complete bullet sponge. If developers can’t include A.I.-controller Legends to practice with in the Training Range, fans’ ideas to customize dummies would be a fantastic start.

Apex Legends players devise new reward system to prevent toxic teammates – Dexerto
Apex Legends players devise new reward system to prevent toxic teammates As a team-oriented game, playing Apex Legends as a solo player can at times be a grueling experience, having to put up with squadmates who aren’t always all that helpful. But, one player has suggested a rewarding way to tackle toxic teammates. From instantly leaving if they don’t get the Legend they want, to refusing to revive you in a tight spot, random teammates on Apex Legends can be a bit hit or miss. You might get lucky to get a functioning squad in your trio, but just as often you’re bound to end up with players who have no interest beyond themselves and their own performance. We already tried to help people become better teammates without our guide, but some people just lack the motivation to play as a unit. So, perhaps introducing a reward system for good behavior could be what is needed? That’s the suggestion of Apex player Cazirus, who has designed a mock-up of what such a reward system might look like. “Your progression increases with each good action, and can be boosted by teammates that thought you were exceptionally nice,” the suggestion explains. You could get bonus points if a teammate commended you for how you played. On the flip side, progress on the reward train would also be reset for negative actions, namely leaving matches prematurely. The idea was welcomed by other players, and some suggested even a simplified version of this could be a big benefit. A simple commendation feature to thank and increase the reputation of good teammates, for example. “This is such a great idea you know. I hope something like this gets implemented, especially for solo queuing,” one player commented. Respawn have attempted to clamp down on people leaving matches early, but the punishments are generally limited to ranked play, with regular matches more casual. But the majority of players spend most of their time in the regular playlist, and often won’t have set teammates to play with. A reward system for being a good teammate could instantly resolve some of the inherent problems with randoms.

Apex Legends players devise genius buff for Crypto – Dexerto
Apex Legends players devise genius buff for Crypto Respawn EntertainmentOne Apex Legends fan has grown tired of Crypto being too far down the Season 5 pecking order, and has devised a buff for the Surveillance Expert that would better reward players for using him. Certain characters have dominated pick rates in Apex Legends since the game first launched. Wraith, Lifeline and Pathfinder have remained incredibly popular, despite some dips as the meta shifts. One legend, however, who has struggled to make a meaningful impact on the game’s meta is Crypto. The Season 3 legend had the potential to be a game-changer at first, but has quickly sunk into the background of Apex Legends. His current abilities are the Surveillance Drone, Neurolink and Drone EMP. On paper, they are pretty powerful tools, but many players have quickly learned counters, or to simply make do without the equipment his EMP blast destroys. One Redditor – u/Spylt420 – shared an idea, which pitches a unique Crypto buff. It reads: “Completing a finisher on an enemy reveals that enemy’s team locations for 5 seconds”. While on paper this might make Crypto overpowered, it’s important to remember that completing a finisher is not entirely without risk. If the player gets caught doing a finisher, they will surely die, and miss out on the finisher bonus. It would therefore fall on the player themselves to determine whether it is safe to carry out a finisher animation. This wasn’t the only buff idea though. Another Redditor who liked the idea, u/Clark94vt, suggested that enemies flash up depending on the color of their armor. An enemy who is donning gold armor, for example, would show up gold on the minimap and so on. Both these suggestions would fit with Crypto’s character – a hacker known for acquiring information on his foes. The shield indicator, especially, would inform players about whether they should push enemies or not. An enemy team with all purple and gold armor should not be pushed, whereas a team donning basic armors would be far more susceptible to an attack after having their location revealed. Respawn Entertainment have proved in the past they are keen to listen to player feedback when it comes to buffing and reworking legends. Whether they do the same with Crypto remains to be seen, but there are certainly plenty of players who believe the Surveillance Expert is in need of a buff.

Apex Legends players devise epic way to bring Skulltown back as new mode – Dexerto
Apex Legends players devise epic way to bring Skulltown back as new mode Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Season 5: Fortune’s Favor got rid of everyone’s favorite hot drop, Skulltown, but fans have come up with a new way to bring the location back for a much-needed mode. The early days of Apex Legends were marked by incessant fire fights throughout Skulltown, a concentrated pack of buildings with loot, corridors and, most importantly, what seemed like half of the lobby itching for action. But Skulltown and the nearby Thunderdome are both gone now, as the original Kings Canyon map has found its battleground centered elsewhere toward the northeastern section of the map—where the Offshore Rig and Capacitor locations have been added. This has led fans of the game to speculate over how a closed-off Skulltown could feature as a smaller map fit for different modes than the game’s traditional three-person squad battle royale. In particular, Redditor ‘cow_durr’ noted that Skulltown could be parceled off, enclosed by rocky cliffs so that players could compete in smaller competitions. While they suggested this move as a means of supplementing the Firing Range, granting players a more realistic opportunity to compete amongst their friends in a game-like environment rather than the location’s obvious lean toward an aim-training terrain. This idea is reasonable, as buddies could hop into a limited training mode and engage in custom deathmatches to warm up aim, and generally have a silly old blast in a part of the map that many already miss dearly. But there are other applications that could fit a smaller map type. With a closed-off map in a dense area like Skulltown, Respawn Entertainment would be able to test out a few experimental modes that many in the community have been curious to try out. Among such modes, the most interesting are a public solos battle royale, a kill-based deathmatch, and a solos gun game. The possibility of a smaller squad-based BR with something like just five squads and loadouts upon deployment would also be intriguing. In the past, Respawn has tried out solo modes and modes where you deploy with shields already equipped, but neither received enough positive feedback to fit into the game permanently. A smaller map could solve this, as the problems of inaction in solos-based modes are solved by forcing players into a more concentrated area. With the versatility of Skulltown’s environment allowing for tremendous mobility and positioning potential, utilizing everything from rooftops and stairways to small fences, the area suits itself well to the type of action players would love to warm up with. The RNG of looting is essential to a battle royale but, as proved by Call of Duty’s Warzone, it’s fun when players are able to deploy with weapons and pick out the specific weapons they’d like to play with (as seen in the game’s Plunder mode and purchasable loadouts). While players will always want to drop into full-fledged Apex Legends matches on the larger map, a smaller, fan-favorite map would allow players to drop in and practice their gunplay and movement techs. Ultimately, the game’s guns, legends and mobility are the game’s selling point and experimenting with a smaller map would allow developers to let fans embrace those differentiating factors more immediately and in unique ways.

Apex Legends players devastated as Flatline & Longbow removed from floor loot – Dexerto
Apex Legends players devastated as Flatline & Longbow removed from floor loot Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends’ floor items will look a bit different in Season 12 when both the VK-47 Flatline and the Longbow DMR get pulled from the loot pool. There are a number of huge changes coming to Apex in Season 12: Defiance. From Legend changes like Crypto’s buff and Caustic’s big nerf, to the seasonal care package changes which will bring the Alternator back to the ground loot, players are set to experience a big shakeup from the current state of the game. Not all of these changes are being viewed fondly though, as the decision to take the Flatline and the Longbow into the Replicator hasn’t been too well received by the fanbase. Apex Legends players upset after Flatline & Longbow taken out of loot pool This is the first time any weapon has been moved to the material-eating machine since Season 6 where a new gun would be taken out of the rotation each day and locked in until the next daily reset. That concept is staying the same for this go-around but instead of changing daily, both weapons will be locked away for the whole of Season 12. On top of being taken out of the ground loot options, the beloved Flatline is also getting a one-point damage reduction to help keep it in line with its competition. One commenter noted that they thought the assault rifle was in a great spot before this and are worried that Respawn has gone a step too far this time: “I feel it’s the most balanced weapon in the game. This makes me sad.” Another player had questions about the changes to the Longbow and whether or not this change was warranted: “Why the Longbow though? Was it even used enough to deserve that?” Given the popularity of the Flatline particularly, this change will surely shake up the meta when the new season begins on February 8.

Apex Legends players desperate for Straight Shot LTM to stay for entirety of Season 20 – Dexerto
Apex Legends players desperate for Straight Shot LTM to stay for entirety of Season 20 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have fallen in love with Season 20’s new LTM Straight Shot, and are desperate for Respawn to keep it around for the rest of the season. Apex Legends’ Season 20 changes have shaken up the battle royale quite a bit, with some big changes to the crafting system and the introduction of Legend Upgrades. Season 20 also introduced a brand new LTM called Straight Shot, which essentially streamlines the battle royale experience into bite-sized chunks. Now that the LTM has been available for a bit, players are desperate to see the mode stick around for the remainder of Season 20. Apex Legends fans want Straight Shot LTM to stay A post on the Apex Legends subreddit sparked a discussion among fans after one player made a thread titled, “Straight shot should go for the whole season.” The OP explained, “Two weeks are not enough, i want more. Make the straight shot LTM go for the whole season, it’s a very good alternative game mode for people that seek fights and don’t like the long loot gathering phase.” For those who may not know, LTM stands for limited-time mode. As such, Straight Shot won’t be around forever—it will disappear just two weeks into Season 20. Many in the comments echoed the sentiment, with most players praising the changes the LTM brings. “I honestly don’t even wanna go back to regular trios. This mode is so much better,” said one fan. Others argued that popular game modes like Straight Shot necessitate some changes to the Mixtape playlist. “There needs to be two mixtape modes imo. One for smaller, more unique modes like TDM, Gun run, ect., and another for bigger BR style modes like 3 strikes, straight shot, etc.” It isn’t out of the realm of possibility for Straight Shot to stick around, especially given how Respawn handled the popular Three Strikes LTM in Season 19. Hopefully, Respawn will respond to fan outcry and at least have Straight Shot stick around for the remainder of Season 20.

Apex Legends players desperate for Season 20 LTM to stay as battle royale is “unplayable” – Dexerto
Apex Legends players desperate for Season 20 LTM to stay as battle royale is “unplayable” Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are begging for the Respawn devs to keep Season 20’s Straight Shot LTM, claiming the regular battle royale mode is “unplayable” in its current state. Apex Legends Season 20 has been fairly well received by the community since its launch on February 13. Although the update didn’t bring anything major to EA’s battle royale, it was still packed with enough content to give Apex a breath of fresh air. Some have gone as far as to say Season 20 is the “best yet” thanks to the few additions and major overhauls the patch contained. Among the several additions to the game was the Straight Shot LTM, which players are desperate for the Respawn devs to keep around permanently. Apex Legends players desperate for Straight Shot LTM to stay In a Reddit thread posted on February 23, Apex Legends player ‘_clampgod’ pleaded with Respawn to keep Season 20’s LTM, explaining that regular public matches are “unplayable” if you’re on your own. “Don’t remove straight shot. Pubs is unplayable solo!” the player wrote. “I’ve been playing since the game came out years ago and as a solo player the pubs experience has just gotten worse over time.” They added: “It feels like Respawn is purposely trying to push you away from the game with how terrible the MM is. Please don’t remove straight shot!” Judging by the replies to the post, it’s evident others feel the same way too, explaining their frustrating experiences playing just the normal battle royale mode. “Solo Pubs is trash,” said one. They added: “Straight Shot so far is giving me a pretty balanced experience where I don’t wait too long for a fight… but is also not fully braindead.” “Yeah Straight Shot is overall a great mode, I’m hoping it sticks around,” wrote another. However, according to some players, both modes are “unplayable” if you’re solo. “Straight Shot and Pubs is unplayable Solo…I don’t think my teammates are even real. I played on both PC and console yesterday and its the same sh*t,” a player hit out. Nevertheless, we’ll just have to wait and see if the devs listen to the community and keep the mode permanently.

Apex Legends players demand weapon pool overhaul amid Heavy Ammo complaints – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand weapon pool overhaul amid Heavy Ammo complaints Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling on Respawn Entertainment to make major changes to the BR’s weapon pool, claiming that Heavy Ammo weapons are far too strong in its current version. Apex Legends’ weapon pool is among the many reasons players have found the game so engaging and immersive. From ground loot to care package weapons, there’s a plethora of guns for players of all skills. However, as has become standard in FPS titles, metas emerge in which certain guns are favored. Now, as Apex Legends approaches its fourteenth season of post-launch content, fans want to see an overhaul to the weapon pool. The issues were pinpointed in a May 21 Reddit post from player ‘MrFeature_1’, who claimed that Heavy Ammo weapons are, on the whole, far too strong. “Should we talk about Heavy Ammo weapons?” they said. “Don’t get me wrong, I am so f**king happy to have the Spitfire on the ground (even though everyone else is using it). But come on.” They went on to list all the weapons that use Heavy Ammo, arguing that each is incredibly powerful. On the Spitfire, they said it’s “so good it deleted the Rampage from the game.” Similarly, the Hemlok Burst is described as “probably the most underrated weapon in the game. Which makes it f**king strong. God help you if you come across an experienced player using this.” Concluding their point, they said: “What do other guns have on these? I mean really? Can we get another GOOD energy weapon? Thank you.” A host of other players appeared to agree, with the post sitting at upwards of 400 upvotes at the time of writing. Some pointed out that the amount of Heavy Ammo available for players to loot could indicate an intentional meta change on Respawn’s behalf, with one player saying: “There is so much Heavy Ammo on the ground. Every game I am running duel heavy weapons with an abundance of ammo while my teammates are full stacked with heavy too.” Because of this, the general sentiment was that a category nerf is required. It could well come with Season 14, expected to drop on August 8.

Apex Legends players demand Storm Point changes to fix “most boring” map – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand Storm Point changes to fix “most boring” map Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have outlined their biggest issues with the Storm Point battle royale map, describing it as the game’s “most boring” and encouraging Respawn to make adjustments. Since its launch back in 2019 with Kings Canyon as the only playable battle royale map, Respawn’s Apex Legends has seen three new environments added specifically for the game’s base BR mode. They are World’s Edge, Olympus and, most recently, Storm Point. The latest environment was added with Season 11, set on the planet Gaea. The deserted island is sandy and sunny and comes in at 15% bigger than World’s Edge; previously the biggest map in the game. Despite the anticipation that surrounded a new and larger map, many fans have been left underwhelmed and are encouraging the game’s devs to make adjustments to Storm Point. A post from player ‘Dachten‘ called Storm Point Apex Legends’ “most boring” map, a sentiment that was echoed by much of the game’s subreddit. “Hot take: Storm Point is the most boring map on Apex,” they said. “It’s just too big and way too often you’ll just run around looking for a fight a good portion of the game. Best case scenario, you have an exciting early game if you hot drop then a boring rest of the game. Worst case, you’ll have a boring early game and then 90% of that game will just be running around looking for a fight.” Despite originally floating their thoughts as a “hot take”, the popularity of the post suggests their issues are fairly common thoughts among the player base. Among other things, many pointed to the slower gameplay on Storm Point, arguing it forces players to use high-mobility legends like Valkyrie or becomes boring. One player stated: “Storm Point removes the ability to use most legends, it greatly increases the time matches are played for, and in general it just makes Apex a way slower and more boring game to play.” Some suggestions included removing POIs or adjusting map rotations but, as of the publication of this article, Respawn have not announced any plans to alter Storm Point or its prevalence in Apex Legends Season 12.

Apex Legends players demand simple change to Caustic ability – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand simple change to Caustic ability Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have asked for what seems to be a reasonable change to Caustic and his barrel traps. Apex Legends can be a fast-paced shooter that forces players to make instant decisions based on what they see on screen like enemy and ally abilities. Player’s screens can easily be filled with enemy and ally traps and abilities that need to be distinguishable from each other to make a quick decision. In a recent Reddit post, the community asked Respawn to address problems with discerning between enemy and ally traps for Caustic. Apex Legends want simple Caustic change Caustic’s tactical ability is Nox Gas Traps, which place cans that fire out gas when damaged or when enemies are near. One Apex player asked whether the developer could help make ally Caustic traps a different color from enemy ones. They explain that other Legends, like Wattson and Conduit, have different colors for ally and enemy traps so Caustic should also have the same feature. “Enemy barrels look the same as friendly ones. This is especially a problem in mixtape. Like so much is going on especially when there are multiple Caustics on each team, it’s chaos, and there’s no way to tell whether the barrel that was placed is for your team or the enemy. “There are some times I accidentally shot down our barrels, and then you don’t know if the Caustic gas is friendly or not, and knowing this would be crucial in deciding whether to push through the gas or not,” the post said. Other players agreed, saying it sounds like an easy adjustment that would improve the game dramatically. “Such a small change for a huge QOL improvement. Should have been done years ago,” one commenter said. Some users pointed out that friendly traps can be seen through walls and should have a slight glow to them, but conceded that this wouldn’t be a bad change. Whether Respawn will make this change remains unknown. The developer has been praised for its recent season of content and changes, so this seemingly small improvement would only further please the player base.

Apex Legends players demand “serious rework” to Ranked Arenas matchmaking – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand “serious rework” to Ranked Arenas matchmaking Respawn EntertainmentSome Apex Legends players are demanding Respawn Entertainment implement a “serious rework” to Ranked Arenas matchmaking. Apex Legends’ ranked mode can be extremely competitive as it allows for players to test their mettle against others. Additionally, whether it’s solo, duo, or trio, fans can take the fight with or against those of similar rank. Players are always looking to be the best version of themselves they can be no matter if they’re at the lowest level at Bronze or at the highest at Apex Predator. However, sometimes climbing the ranks can be difficult. This is especially the case when they end up teaming with others below their level. Apex Legends players want Ranked Arenas matchmaking to change First brought up on the official Apex Legends subreddit, a user by the name of I-Horizontal-I brought up that Ranked Arenas matchmaking “needs a serious rework.” “Ranked arenas matchmaking needs a serious rework,” said the fan. “No hate towards the lifeline because she’s trying to learn but in Diamond lobbies, this is plain unfair.” Many other players agreed. “The placement matches are such a joke,” a user replied. “arenas matchmaking really just pairs me with level 5’s against aceu and his two clones AND expects me not to leave immediately,” another wrote. Like any other video game with a competitive mode, Apex Legends utilizes a matchmaking system that matches players with other players of similar rank. However, in this case, I-Horizontal-I claims to have been teamed with a Lifeline player lower ranked than them, using the video as an example. As one of the more enjoyed game modes, Ranked Arenas can be fun for any player. Only time will tell if Respawn Entertainment will take a look at these aforementioned issues.

Apex Legends players demand Revenant nerfs as he takes over the meta – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand Revenant nerfs as he takes over the meta Electronic ArtsApex Legends players are demanding that Revenant receive some kind of nerf in the future as his overloaded kit is running rampant in high elo play. Revenant is only a few months off of his rework and players are already calling for him to be toned down. The Legend was not touched in the Season 20 update, and Respawn seems to think he is in a good spot in the overall meta. The Legend’s last big change was over six months ago, as his ultimate was drastically toned down, though his tactical got a small quality of life buff. Now, players are back to complaining about the Legend, although this time they are saying he is being abused by high elo players. Revenant too powerful according to players In a post titled “So, is Revenant just going to stay like this?” Reddit user artmorte laid out just how strong that character is at the moment. “Has a good movement ability that is further buffed by perks. And the ultimate… So much free HP that regenerates, too. Especially now that getting purple and red armors is pushed later into a match, his 75 HP overheal is even better than before. I don’t know, man, I get that his old ultimate was underwhelming, but this “have a bunch of extra health” re-work just isn’t it. Way too op in close-range situations,” the user said. Other players confirmed that it felt nigh impossible to kill the Legend in close-quarter fights. “I once had 318 dmg on a rev conduit combo and was still unable to down him. 10/10 game design,” another player said. The Legend is, however, difficult for some players to master as its pick rate hits just over 15% at about Diamond level. “I really hope he isn’t just left alone now, because it feels so bs to fight an ulting Rev,” artmote said. Respawn has yet to reveal what is coming in the next Apex Legends update, but high-elo players are demanding the developer take a look at Revenant.

Apex Legends players demand Respawn completely rework infamous POI – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand Respawn completely rework infamous POI Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players want Respawn Entertainment to completely rework the infamous Cage POI in hopes of reducing its favorability towards campers. Cage is the perfect POI for any Apex Legends player who doesn’t favor the run-and-gun play style. Its verticality and maze-like structure allows for squads to set up and pop shots at unsuspecting targets. However, this creates a problem for any player on Kings Canyon that might want to travel through the area since, once an enemy squad is set up, it can be tough to take them out. That’s why fans of the game Respawn to consider making a change. Apex Legends players call for Cage POI rework The campy playstyle that a POI like Cage can provide can be tiring to play against, some players said. With sniper shots that can be hard to track and setups that can feel impossible to break through, the building is an in-game logistical nightmare for teams. Reddit user ‘Supercomfyplanet‘ thinks it’s high time for the studio to take a look at the Cage and a healthy amount of fans agree. “Yesss! This is like the only place I hate on Kings Canyon along with the big valley beneath it,” another player said. More players joined in the conversation on the POI that’s caused a few headaches. Not all players want it to be reworked. Some players would rather see The Cage “nuked” instead of it being reinvented to improve the POI. “Just nuke the damn place already, I hate it with a passion,” they said. “There’s barely any loot and you [either] get other two teams or more in there or nobody lands with you and don’t see anyone for some considerable time. It’s just so random.” As of right now, plans for a possible Cage rework remain up in the air. But who knows, now that Respawn Entertainment has teased a possible Skulltown return, the devs might not be done giving the rest of Kings Canyon some love too.

Apex Legends players demand Ranked changes to avoid bad teammates – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand Ranked changes to avoid bad teammates Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends community are demanding changes to the requirements for ranked queue in order to avoid playing with new players as teammates. Ranked queues aren’t exactly perfect, and no matter which game you play there’s a plethora of problems to deal with. From smurfs and cheaters, to boosted players who don’t deserve their rank, it can be frustrating to play with random teammates. However, the Apex Legends community have banded together, demanding that the devs increase the requirements to play ranked. In a Reddit thread posted on August 6, Apex Legends fan Mayors_Son hit out at the devs and questioned why the ranked requirements haven’t been increased since release. Since the launch of Ranked Leagues back in Season 2, the only requirement needed is to be above level 10. However, it’s now been over three years since the ranked queue was introduced, and no changes have been made. “Can we not have ranked locked behind level 50 at least,” the player wrote. “Half the teams in plat lobbies are smurfs. Level 25 players with 10 kills winning games. It so obvious and annoying. Respawn is absolutely murdering this game for the above average player,” they said. Others in the thread suggested a different idea, proposing that the devs force players to connect a phone number to their account. As noted by fans, this method has become increasingly popular in recently, with games such as Dota and Overwatch adopting the idea. “Ranked should only be for people who connect their cell. Dota did it ages ago and it cut down smurfing a lot, even if it’s not perfect,” said one. “All they have to do is require a phone number to have an account. Problem solved mostly,” another wrote. With the game slowly creeping up to its 4th anniversary, the Respawn developers may consider these long-overdue changes. However, only time will tell if they’ll listen to the community on this one.

Apex Legends players demand Overwatch 2 style changes to ranked – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand Overwatch 2 style changes to ranked EARespawn Entertainment is being urged by Apex Legends ranked players to “take note” of how Overwatch 2 is changing its competitive modes. Apex Legends players are a dedicated bunch, with hardcore fans grinding the ranked ladder every day since the shooter launched over three years ago now. Although developer Respawn Entertainment has offered changes to the ranked system, the EA-published title still has continually left players wanting more. Now, a new Overwatch 2 ranked feature has caught players’ attention, and many would like to see it come to the well-loved game. Apex Legends players want Overwatch 2 ranked feature Apex players on the game’s subreddit page told Respawn to “take notes” from Overwatch 2’s new requirement to win 50 quick play games in order to unlock the competitive queue game mode. In the comment section, many Apex Legends players shared their thoughts about what it would mean if their game had the same requirement. Although winning 50 casual matches on Apex Legends would take an absurd amount of time, Apex fans simply demand a barrier of entry to the game’s ranked mode. One user said, “Apex mobile has a similar requirement. Can’t believe a mobile version has a better format than “normal” one.” Another noted, “It’s really an issue how quickly you get to play ranked. It’s part of the reason cheaters and Smurfs are such an issue. It literally takes like 2-3 hours to get to the level needed to go into ranked games.” An Apex Legends fan jokingly added, “The last thing that Respawn needs to do is to take notes from Blizzard, lol.” Despite players not wanting an exact version of Overwatch 2’s barrier of entry introduced into Apex Legends, dedicated fans would like to see a stronger barrier of entry implemented to protect the sanctity of the ranked ladder.

Apex Legends players demand nerfs for “OP” Valkyrie ultimate – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand nerfs for “OP” Valkyrie ultimate Respawn/EAApex Legends players are calling on Respawn Entertainment to nerf Valkyrie, well, her ultimate at least as they believe it is far too “OP” when stacked up against others. When Valkyrie was first introduced to Apex Legends back in Season 9, she had the typical burst in popularity, but quickly fell away in terms of usage. However, over the last few seasons, the Winged Avenger has become an integral part of the meta. Whether you’re playing games yourself in casual or Ranked, or watching the pros compete in the ALGS, you’re going to see many trios running Valk because of how she allows them to get out of dodge and rotate positions easily. That ability to rotate quickly comes thanks to her Skyward Dive ultimate, which also allows her to see enemy positions – provided they’re in her line of sight. While players have called for Valk to get an overall nerf over the last few seasons, they’re really honing in on her Ultimate this time around. On June 18, Redditor Barneyfnaf reignited calls for a Valkyrie nerf, claiming that she has become too “OP” and is making the battle royale “completely unfun” given how easily she can run away and get information. “Why is a legend able to stun enemies behind cover, push on them in the air, and then leave a location on a free, super-fast jump tower that scans where people are,” they said, with plenty of players quickly agreeing and urging Respawn to take her under the knife with some changes – especially to the cooldown time on her dive. “Her ult needs a cooldown nerf desperately tbh,” agreed one fan. “They should give her the longest ult cooldown in the game. Everything else seems fine in my opinion,” added another. “I think the best thing they could do is increase the cooldown of her ult to somewhere between 4-5 mins. And remove her ability to scan beacons,” commented another. While some players want to see her changed, they don’t want Respawn to go overboard and turn her into an “unfun” legend that is useless within the game. It remains to be seen if Respawn will take the communities feedback on board and take a look at tweaking Valkyrie in some way.

Apex Legends players demand big nerf to Valkyrie’s ultimate ability – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand big nerf to Valkyrie’s ultimate ability Respawn EntertainmentThe Winged Avenger has found herself towards the top of the Season 11 meta picks in Apex Legends and some players feel like the Valkyrie’s ultimate ability is ready for a nerf in its current form. Ever since her arrival in Season 9, Valkyrie has been a familiar face to the upper echelon of Apex Legends. While she has previously ranked higher than average in terms of overall pick rates, the arrival of Storm Point seemed to bring the game’s only true aerial threat to new heights. Now we’re barreling towards the end of the season and there are a number of people who are ready to see her signature Skyward Dive ability get brought back down to earth. Apex Legends players call for nerf for Valkyrie ult For anyone who doesn’t know, Valkyrie’s ultimate allows her — and any number of her teammates — to take to the skies and soar across a huge portion of the map. While flying, the airborne Legend will highlight any players on the ground with a little green marker, letting the team know exactly how dangerous it is to land in a given area. As it stands now, this is the only scanning ability in the game (other than Seer’s heartbeat sensor) that doesn’t provide some kind of notification to the players who have been caught in it, and a portion of the community has taken issue with that fact. One user suggested that this could help with the constant third-partying that the devs were working to fight against with the creation of Storm Point: “This feature would be better. It would at least make us aware that a 3rd party is jumping on our heads.” Additionally, another commenter pointed out how beneficial this could be in making Apex more of an equal playing field for people with hearing impairments: “This game really isn’t very accessible to people who are hard of hearing, huh.” While there are obvious benefits to a change like this, ultimately it’s up to Respawn to make heads-or-tails of these kinds of suggestions. Regardless of their decision, it’s clear that the community is looking for a change.

Apex Legends players demand major changes to compete with Warzone – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand major changes to compete with Warzone EAWith Call of Duty: Warzone being the new battle royale craze, one Apex Legends player has vented their frustrations and sent out a call to arms for Respawn to do something about it. Infinity Ward has done a lot more than just dipped their toes into the battle royale realm with Warzone — they have arguably made the biggest splash since Fortnite relaunched with Chapter 2. It’s no surprise then, that Warzone is hailed as the fastest-growing non-mobile game of all-time — dethroning its battle royale counterpart, Apex Legends. Within a week, Infinity Ward have already made a host of changes to improve player experience, while also adding a dedicated solos mode during their March 17 update. This was the last straw for one Apex Legends player, who expressed their frustrations to the Apex Legends subreddit. In their post, ‘Khronikos’ highlighted their concerns with Apex Legends’ current meta, while refraining from the ongoing debate of skill-based matchmaking and numerous server issues. The Reddit user stated: “World’s Edge still needs a lot of tweaks to prevent funneling and height advantages across the map, and while [Kings Canyon] is great and all, it’s not enough to keep people interested with the other issues we are not covering.” Khronikos further went on to detail their issue with Legend balancing, or the lack thereof. “Newer players love to play a variety of Legends with the problem being a lot of Legends are just terrible or mediocre.” After highlighting the game’s inherent issues, the Redditor drew parallels to Warzone, where Infinity Ward have added a permanent solos mode merely one week post-launch. Not only did they bring their complaints into the public spotlight, the Redditor was quick to make some suggestions on how to improve player experience too. “I don’t think anybody can really understand why [Revenant] was released as is, or why Mirage is nearly useless. It’s been a year. People have made great suggestions. Let’s try some of them out!” A fellow Apex Legends player responded in the comments, reiterating Khronikos’ concerns: “Warzone has a lot going for it, and it’s a beta state game. That is not a good sign when a beta has solos out after a week and Apex cannot manage this after a year despite having everything in place for it.” While another user was quick to point out Warzone’s inherent issues in their response, highlighting audio issues, visual rendering problems, netcode inconsistencies and a flawed loot system as some of the hurdles Infinity Ward have to overcome Apex Legends, which according to the player is “more refined in its mechanicals and gameplay.” Respawn’s hit game boasts one of the best movement systems in the FPS genre, so the foundations for improvement are there, as Khronikos initially pointed out. Their post received over 1.5k upvotes in less than 24 hours, suggesting that Khronikos was simply echoing the thoughts of the community.

Apex Legends players demand looting change to stop frustrating deaths – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand looting change to stop frustrating deaths Respawn EntertainmentPlayers are getting frustrated with a specific looting mechanic that exists in Apex Legends, and want developers Respawn Entertainment to add in an option to disable it. The launch of Season 3: Meltdown in Apex Legends has breathed popularity back into the battle royale title, as many have hopped on the game to try out the plethora of new content. However, one thing that the new season has not done is deal with a specific looting mechanic that has a lot of players annoyed. When a player is looting through the inventory of an eliminated enemy and they get shot at by someone else, the menu automatically closes so that they can take action as quickly as possible. Read More: When is Apex Legends mobile coming out? – In theory, this makes perfect sense, and would actually be a very good thing, except for the fact that most players instinctively press a button to exit out of the inventory when taking damage, and that ends up leading them right back in because the menu had already closed by default. Ultimately, this leads to a frustrating experience, as the player then spends an extra few seconds having to exit the screen again, and if they take further damage during that process, there is a good chance of it all happening again, and again, and again. As a way to combat this potential situation, Reddit user ‘GFHeady‘ has proposed a possible solution that would probably have everyone satisfied. He posted a concept image of an option in the menu that would give the player the choice of not having a loot menu close when taking enemy damage, which would then allow them to manually exit, as they’re muscle memory has already been set to do. While titling his post “a feature almost everyone is asking more” may be a bit of an overstatement, it does seem to be a very popular idea, judging by the comments on Reddit. “The amount of times I’ve been shot at, kicked out of the menu, but hit tab real quick to get out, but then I’m in my inventory and getting shot at even more,” wrote ‘ZaynPlease.’ “I need this feature more than I need to get good.” Read More: How to open loot vaults in Apex Legends – “Every single time I hear gunfire, I automatically exit the looting screen,” added ‘nattfjaril8.’ “But since the auto-exit kicks in at the same time, I end up back in the looting screen. Rinse and repeat until dead. I wouldn’t mind it if getting shot at cancelled looting, if there was some kind of delay before you could start looting again, so that this didn’t happen.” It would seem that adding such an option wouldn’t really hurt or change the game in any negative way, and would only add something that many players apparently deem important and are asking for. Considering how popular this post has gotten on Reddit already, it may not be before too long that someone on the development staff at Respawn catches wind of it and puts it on their to-do list.

Apex Legends players demand Fragment changes on World’s Edge – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand Fragment changes on World’s Edge Respawn EntertainmentFragment is arguably the hottest drop in Apex Legends, and, after the circulation of a screenshot depicting all 60 players in a lobby dropping there, players are desperate for big changes to World’s Edge. World’s Edge is a fairly contentious map within the Apex Legends community. The last leg of Season 15 ranked was on World’s Edge after bugs with the Olympus map kept it from being able to be placed in the map rotation. Players are ready to get their hands on some other maps, but that isn’t the biggest issue with World’s Edge. A big part of why there’s fatigue for this map is Fragment. It’s common for at least half the lobby to hot drop Fragment, leaving the rest of the map empty. Apex Legends players are tired of having the map focused around one point of interest. People are asking for some big changes to the map, or for it to be removed from the rotation entirely. Apex Legends players want World’s Edge Fragment overhaul Apex Legends is no stranger to notorious hot drops. From OG Skull Town to the high-rise skyscrapers on Olympus, it’s hard to think of a map that doesn’t have at least one POI that ends up having a few teams fighting for its loot. However, Fragment is different. Players often flock to the ruined city in an attempt to get at some sweet ground loot and to try and come out on top of hectic early-game fights. There’s even a building that’s often called “streamer building”, and it’s a simple three-story building with a zipline connecting each floor that’s often used by content creators to show off their skills. Considering that Fragment has POIs within it while being a POI in and of itself, it’s easy to see why it’s such a popular drop location. But some Apex Legends players have been claiming that it’s too popular to drop there, and that the map needs some changes to incentivize players to go elsewhere. An image posted on the Apex Legends reddit depicts an entire lobby dropping at Fragment. It struck a chord with many Apex Legends players, especially those who have fallen victim to their jumpmaster throwing them right into 10 teams in their ranked games. “My favorite is when someone hands me jump master and then they consistently ping fragment until they just drop solo and die within 2 seconds.” That said, the comments are divided. Some players really like what Fragment has to offer and would be sad to see it go, with the counter-argument being that having such a big map with the vast majority of players dropping in one spot makes each game monotonous and predictable. What’s more, its location at the center of the map makes it so that players can drop there every game regardless of which path the dropship takes. Some seasoned BR veterans in the thread are comparing it to Tilted Towers, a notorious hot drop in Fortnite that got obliterated by the dev team for its popularity. A leaker claimed that changes to Fragment were coming in Season 16, but the map remains unchanged at the time of writing.

Apex Legends players demand fix for “unplayable” servers ahead of Season 10 – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand fix for “unplayable” servers ahead of Season 10 Respawn/EAApex Legends players have, once again, called on Respawn to fix their servers ahead of Season 10: Emergence, with some claiming that the game is completely “unplayable” in its current state. With Season 9: Legacy quickly drawing to a close, Apex Legends players are gearing themselves up for Season 10: Emergence, and the arrival of a new character in the form of Seer. On top of a new character, map changes, weapon shake-ups, and more, Respawn will also implement plenty of bug fixes and quality of life changes to improve the battle royale experience further. One big addition that players have called for, for some time now, are changes to the servers and just making the game not lag or stutter mid-match. For some time, players have found themselves frustrated by the game stuttering at a key point in a session, leading them to miss out on a win or loss ranking points. Respawn have dropped a few changes before to address the stuttering, but it still remains, to the annoyance of many players. Redditor dypeguy managed to rally some support after saying that Apex is “unplayable” for them right now and showing off the problems they’re dealing with. “Every match I get prediction errors and lag symbols,” they said. They, of course, were not alone in wanting changes after suffering from issues.

Apex Legends players demand fix for “flawed” ranked progression system – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand fix for “flawed” ranked progression system Respawn EntertainmentApex legends players are finding the ranked progression in the battle royale to be “inexcusably flawed,” citing issues such as inconsistent point distribution, and imbalanced matchmaking lobbies. Even with the success of the Old Ways lore event, players are noticing that Apex’s ranked component still leaves a lot to be desired, especially at the higher tiers of matchmaking. Progressing through ranks hits a wall of sorts, and the community feel like it’s time for there to be some meaningful changes to a few facets of the mode. “The progression system of ranking up is inexcusably flawed and for me it’s quickly stripping all of my will to continue playing this game,” user ‘scallywaggin’ said. The player believes a few factors are contributing to the lackluster experiences from ranked games. They say that the matchmaking pools in Apex boil down to two factions: Gold ranked players and below, and then everyone else. Scallywaggin explained: “The matchmaking pool when you reach platinum is the polar opposite of prior ranks. It seems that there are only two pools of players and that there’s not any kind of sliding scale at all.” That problem is only exacerbated by the “wonky” points that make it difficult for people in higher elo matches to come out even in case they don’t have a good game. “The fact that a Platinum IV player is required to maintain a KDR of 3.0+ in lobbies with Predators to just break even [that makes ranked Apex suck],” they said. “God forbid you to have the errant teammate (which obviously happens constantly) who’s out alone trying to 1v6.” This creates a situation, according to scallywaggin, in which players will camp more than look to fight since “the design of the RP reward system [encourages] players to abandon teammates and camp the circle.” While these aren’t easy issues to fix, they still want Respawn to work on how ranked works. “I’m frustrated. I just want to be rewarded for doing well, punished for doing poorly, and feel good about my rank. None of this is what happens for players like me in Apex,” they said.

Apex Legends players demand changes to stop Ranked smurfing for good in Season 15 – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand changes to stop Ranked smurfing for good in Season 15 Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends community is once again calling on developers Respawn to make a small change that should stop players from surfing in Ranked entirely. Smurfing is a huge issue in just about every game that has a skill-based MMR system, and Apex Legends is no different. From the get-go, players are pretty much immediately able to jump straight into ranked lobbies after reaching level 10 — making it simple for just about anyone to smurf. However, the community is suggesting the Respawn devs make a simple change that’ll hopefully put an end to the problem once and for all. Apex Legends players demand Ranked requirement A recent influx in smurfs has the community demanding action. In a Reddit thread on October 12, one Apex player hit out at the “a**hats” ruining the game for everybody else. “I just got killed by an entire smurf master/pred squad that were all silver 1 in gold ranked. They had a combined 22 kills between them with the kill leader having 12,” the player said. “Ya’ll are ruining the f**king game for everyone and I hope you step in dogsh*t the next time you actually go outside and touch grass.” To combat the pressing issue, one player once again brought up the discussion of increasing the ranked requirements — something that’s previously been heavily debated amongst the community. “All I’m saying, is that instead of reaching level 10, to be able to play ranked, the level minimum should be increased to 50,” they wrote. “Smurfers will have a lot higher level to grind to compared to 10.” While the change may sound good on paper, it’s not exactly the best solution. As noted by another user, less than 21% of players ever make it past level 50 according to PlayStation trophies. That stat is even worse on Xbox too, with supposedly only 14.35% surpassing it. Given that, it’s unlikely we’ll see the requirement increase from Level 10 to 50. Perhaps a lower level would be better and provide a middle ground for all. With Season 15 on the horizon, hopefully, the devs will look at other ways to combat smurfs.

Apex Legends players demand buffs to “useless” Laser Sight attachments – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand buffs to “useless” Laser Sight attachments Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have called for buffs to the “useless” Laser Sight attachment, claiming there’s currently little point in equipping the Season 14 addition in Respawn’s futuristic battle royale. Apex Legends’ early game is often determined by the quality of loot and looting, with players always eager to drop in at the game’s hottest POIs and secure equipment and weapons that will propel them to victory. Attachments are important too, with players always keen to pick up Rare, Epic or even Legendary attachments to augment their weapons. Season 14 changes finally introduced a Laser Sight, allowing players to don a barrel attachment to refine their hipfire. However, player responses have been mixed at best, with many lamenting the futility of the new gear. Apex Legends players criticize “useless” Laser Sights That was certainly the prevailing mood when one player asked for the community’s thoughts on Laser Sights. One respondent said that there’s rarely an incentive to pick them up and suggested the hipfire buff they offer should be increased: “Useless, and now my Alternator can’t carry a barrel for the R-301 I’m looking for… I know they’re actually not useless because they tighten your hipfire spread, but I have literally never said “I need a laser sight”.” Another described them as “literally a scam”, saying that hipfire should not have been nerfed to begin with. A third fan hit out at the nerfs to hipfire, saying: “They actually had to nerf hipfire on all SMGs and now only the purple laser brings you back to hipfire values from previous seasons.” Some though, did suggest they have a place and any loot pool will naturally have more and less desirable items. One positive response read: “I like being able to customise the colour of the laser, I don’t like it reseting to default every game lol. But they do make an impact, you can see in firing range the reticle spread tightens increasingly.” Changes to Laser Sights and the loot pool could come in the near future, but it’s always a balancing act for Respawn who have to consider the wider ramifications of changes, not just how the player base feels at any given moment.

Apex Legends players demand big change for Mad Maggie’s Ultimate – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand big change for Mad Maggie’s Ultimate Electronic ArtsApex Legends players want Respawn developers to tweak Mad Maggie’s ultimate ability since it can stun nearby teammates. Mad Maggie joined Apex during the Season 12 update in 2022, adding another Assault class character to the mix with explosive abilities. Her Wrecking Ball Ultimate, which launches a detonating ball that damages and stuns foes, has garnered a lot of attention since then. For example, Mad Maggie’s Ult has broken footstep audio in the past. Other bugs have also reduced the ability to little more than a useless dud. But even after bug fixes and a few noteworthy buffs, players want developers to further refine the Ultimate. A Redditor who goes by Melodic-Appeal7390 broached the topic after taking stun damage from Wrecking Ball in a match. The problem is that the Mad Maggie who threw the ball was on their team; the effects of the stun ultimately resulted in the OP’s character dying. The user’s gameplay clip sparked discussion in the Apex Legends subreddit about whether or not it’s fair that Mad Maggie’s Ult can adversely impact squadmates. One person argued in the game’s favor, writing that “Ults affect teammates. Same with Gibraltar and Bangalore’s.” Those who are for Ultimates affecting teammates believe squad members should keep a better eye on their surroundings. However, many contend that concessions should be made for characters like Mad Maggie. After all, the video above shows the Wrecking Ball bouncing out of a door and ricocheting towards the player unexpectedly. One user explained, “It’s a bad mechanic. You can telegraph Gibby & Bang Ults. In the clip, the ball was thrown indoors and bounced its way through a doorway… The only way they could have avoided it was if their teammate used comms…” Another person said their friend is a Maggie main and the Ult almost made them stop playing with him. “Almost every single fight I get slowed/stunned, while the ball rarely does enough damage to the enemy squad to justify also giving them faster movement.”

Apex Legends players demand aim assist nerf as controller pros dominate ALGS – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand aim assist nerf as controller pros dominate ALGS Respawn/EAApex Legends pros who use controller have been dominating the new ALGS season in North America, however some players want to use it as a force for change. The debate between controller and keyboard/mouse dominance has been raging among gamers for years, but it’s further been put under the microscope in recent years. As battle royales like Warzone, Fortnite, and Apex Legends have gotten bigger and bigger, they’ve allowed for cross-play between those who use controller and those who’d rather use a keyboard and mouse. Both, of course, have their advantages, but many KB/M users have equated controllers to having a “soft aimbot” in-game. In the Apex Legends competitive scene, controller has become a popular choice between players, even if they have complained about looting speed and other features. Controller pros are dominating Apex Legends ALGS Well, with the new ALGS season getting underway, it appears as if controllers have become the dominant force in matches. Following the third round of matches on November 14, DarkZero’s Jamison ‘PVPX’ Moore flagged the fact that 12 of the 14 highest performers in the NA ALGS scene currently use a controller. That includes the likes of RamBeau – who sits in top spot – ImperialHal, Verhulst, and Dezignful. As of writing, the highest-ranked keyboard and mouse player is Atlanta Premier’s Kyle ‘Crook’ Hughes, who sits in seventh. The next highest KB/M user is DarkZero’s Rhys ‘Zer0’ Perry, who sits in 12th. The stats have caused enough frustrations from fans that they’re using them as evidence that Respawn needs to change things up for controller players. “We need inputs lobbies to end this MNK vs ‘roller debate once and for all,” said one. “It’s almost as if controller has some ridiculous advantage,” commented another. “I do believe that aim assist is necessary but stats show how broken and overachieving it is. Balance is necessary,” added another player, though they noted that they were a little unsure as to how it would be fixed. Other players noted that Respawn has previously stated that they’d look into the balancing around aim assist and controllers, but who knows when they may make changes next.

Apex Legends players demand addition of classic FPS weapon for one simple meme – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand addition of classic FPS weapon for one simple meme Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have hilariously called on developers Respawn to add a classic FPS weapon for the sake of one meme. Apex Legends’ character pool is one of the primary reasons for its popularity, with figures of all backgrounds and abilities coalescing to make a diverse and immersive battle royale experience. The way characters interact with one another and speak in-game just augments the illusion and draws players in to an even greater extent. One fan favorite character, despite not being the most ‘meta’ or powerful, is Fuse, the fast-talking Aussie known for his explosive abilities and fiery personality. Now, fans want to see an iconic FPS weapon added to Apex, simply to improve Fuse’s ability to meme. Apex Legends fans demand Uzi SMG is added for one meme line of dialogue In a September 17 Reddit post, one player called on the developers to add the Uzi SMG to Apex Legends. “Dear Respawn,” they said, “put an Uzi in the game just so Fuse can say “Fusie’s got an Uzi” when he picks one up. That is all.” Despite the clearly tongue-in-cheek suggestion, fans of the battle royale immediately took to the suggestion and, at the time of writing, it sits at over 13,000 upvotes. That wasn’t all, however. Other players used OP’s demands as a springboard, with some suggesting “Fusie’s feeling woozy” as an ideal voice line for when the Aussie is using heals in-game. The suggestions are clearly in jest, but it’s hard to argue they wouldn’t fit with the game’s style or the character’s eccentric interactions. We’re certainly behind calls to add them to the BR and, given Respawn’s previously stated commitment to listen to fan feedback, we wouldn’t rule out Fusie getting his hands on an Uzi just yet.

Apex Legends players delighted as “blatantly hacking” streamer gets easily outplayed – Dexerto
Apex Legends players delighted as “blatantly hacking” streamer gets easily outplayed Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends community is feeling delighted after a live streamer that was “blatantly hacking” failed tremendously. As with any other game, Apex Legends has its fair share of problems with cheaters that use third-party software to gain an unfair advantage over their opponents. Whether it be aimbot or wallhacks, it’s never fun going up against someone who has an advantage over you. Thankfully it wasn’t too long ago the Respawn devs revealed that cheating and hacking are at their lowest levels ever. Nonetheless, the Apex community was left delighted after a recent video showed a “blatantly hacking” streamer fail epically. In a Reddit thread on September 3, Apex Legends player derreck_not_eric shared a short clip of a streamer on Facebook Gaming that was “blatantly cheating” in-game. It’s clear as day that the streamer was using some type of wallhack that allowed them to see their opponent’s exact location. However, despite having the upper hand, the streamer got completely outplayed and knocked down by the enemy. Once shared with the community, it’s fair to say they were over the moon to see the cheater’s hilarious fail. “Holy hell thats wild. Imagine cheating and still being awful. What a loser,” one player wrote. “Dude should probably just quit, even with cheats he’s trash,” another added. As it turns out, the streamer was actually banned from the game and is now begging on TikTok to be unbanned according to others in the thread. “Went to his TikTok page and the only video he has up is a screen saying he’s banned and him begging and almost crying to be unbanned. What a loser,” a player noted. This isn’t the first time an Apex Legends cheater has been embarrassed, and it hopefully won’t be the last either. Maybe think again if you plan on broadcasting yourself breaking the rules.

Apex Legends players decode easter egg tying Bloodhound to Titanfall – Dexerto
Apex Legends players decode easter egg tying Bloodhound to Titanfall Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players spotted and decoded a Titanfall easter egg that Respawn left on Bloodhound, giving a great nod to the character’s deep-rooted origins in the classic franchise. Respawn are experts at integrating incredible callbacks to lore or clues for future content within the battle royale. The studio has also dabbled in easter eggs that span the entire Apex Arena just to activate another, bigger animation. So many Apex players come from the incredible multiplayer or memorable campaigns from Titanfall that a tribute linking the two titles is always welcomed by Respawn’s longtime supportive community. One such enthusiast is user ‘Who_is_Ikarus’ who noticed some writing on the side of Bloodhound’s helmet. After lining up the symbols, they decoded the string of Japanese letters with a translator. The translation returned it as simply ‘Titan fall.’ While it’s a bit on the nose, as far as the teaser and its link to Respawn’s other titles, knowing a bit of Bloodhound’s creation as a character starts to give the easter egg more life. Long before most of Apex Legends was even developed, Respawn created the massive universe and residual characters for their first game Titanfall. In the concept artbook for the beloved series, there’s a page featuring unfinished character models, and one of them that bears a striking resemblance to the Technological Tracker. Apparently, Bloodhound, which would have presumably taken a different name and backstory, was planned to be a part of that series but wasn’t used. The assets for the model were eventually picked up at a later time, resulting in the Legend we know today. That’s been a great piece of trivia for lots of fans up to this point, and it’s even more endearing that the devs recognized it in the game. Some people think this could be alluding to Bloodhound’s past in the lead up to the Games, while others are just regarding it as an awesome call back to Respawn history. Respawn will undoubtedly have more information about Bloodhound as Apex Legends develops, which could have a few more nods to Titanfall.

Apex Legends players debate whether current “can’t see s***” meta is healthy – Dexerto
Apex Legends players debate whether current “can’t see s***” meta is healthy PlayApex | TwitchThe ALGS LAN has brought up a conversation around the game’s current meta. With many teams running compositions that have Bangalore and/or Catalyst on their team, the so-called “can’t see s***” meta has players wondering if this meta is a healthy one. Apex Legends‘ pro/high-level meta looks very different from the average match. While many players who are just trying to have fun with the game will pick popular characters like Wraith and Octane, the pro meta shifts and changes based on what teams think the best Legends are. Right now, that seems to be team compositions that include either Bangalore or Catalyst, both of which are characters who can heavily restrict vision. Every top-tier comp in ALGS has one of these two in it, many of which include both. This has led to Apex Legends players debating as to whether or not this meta is a healthy one and if the ALGS viewing experience is better as a result. “Can’t see s***” meta causes debate among Apex Legends players Casual legends like Octane, Wraith, and the newly-reworked, temporarily free-to-play Revenant dominate the top of the charts, but both Catalyst and Bangalore aren’t trailing too far behind. Casual players are starting to catch on to the pro meta as Seer and Bloodhound’s popularity plummets. This has led to more and more players obstructing vision to create opportunities to escape or ways to close the gap with their opponent. One of the final circles in a recent ALGS match prompted a conversation amongst Apex Legends players as to whether or not this meta is preferable to prior metas in Apex Legends history. Those who are a bit less current on the meta were taken aback by the screenshot. “Tf is going on here, someone’s summoning a fucking Demon,” commented one user. Admittedly, the Catalyst walls do resemble a pentagram. Others focused on the meta implications here, saying that this meta is an improvement compared to others in Apex Legends’ history. “I cant see s*** Meta > Shoot Diamonds Meta”, commented one user, referring to having to shoot Seer’s ultimate. “Don’t really mind it, even enemy walls can be used to your advantage,” said another, bringing up a good point about the strategy having clear counterplay. While people generally seemed to have a positive opinion when it comes to playing in this meta, some pointed out that it negatively affects the viewing experience in Apex Legends pro play. “Honestly would prefer less visual clutter as a viewer but definitely more enjoyable than Seer/Cat.” This isn’t exactly a new problem when it comes to competitive shooters. Valorant is yet another game that plays largely around vision control and also gets its fair share of complaints that the viewing experience for new players is less than stellar. It remains to be seen if Catalyst or Bangalore will receive nerfs in response to their massive popularity in high-level play or if the “can’t see s***” meta continues.

Apex Legends players debate most OP weapon after Spitfire & Prowler nerfs – Dexerto
Apex Legends players debate most OP weapon after Spitfire & Prowler nerfs Respawn EntertainmentThe debate over which gun is the most OP in Apex Legends has raged for some time, and now with changes in Season 10, it’s as lively as ever. Just like with every other multiplayer game, the weapons in Apex Legends have been subjected to a huge number of balancing changes. Each season, the arsenal of guns goes through a series of buffs and nerfs. With the start of Season 10, it was the Spitfire and Prowler which suffered the most, both being nerfed quite significantly. This, of course, changed the meta, seeing as the Spitfire was especially popular. The Flatline has always been a strong choice in Apex, but with those changes, it has been thrust into the spotlight. Some fans naturally want it to be nerfed, but that isn’t the case for everyone. For some players, the Flatline is “perfectly balanced” and its weapons like the Rampage that should be feeling the heat of a potential nerf from Respawn. In the case of others, they believe that all balancing should be done around the R301 and Flatline, given their standing in the meta. Those players believe it’s the Peacekeeper that is most in need of a nerf as its power has gotten out of hand. However, there are plenty of players who claim that the L-Star is the most overpowered weapon and is in need of a nerf just like Seer and the Rampage LMG. “Ranked Arenas is LSTAR only. 0 fking skill, makes me sad,” tweeted SoaR Gaming’s Spooky. “L-Star needs a nerf yesterday my guys,” added one player. They better not fuckin change the Flatline. It’s perfectly balanced. Unlike the spitfire or rampart. — Awnykartaa The Fienix | My Return Is Nigh (@awnykartaa) August 19, 2021 Ranked Arenas is LSTAR only. 0 fking skill, makes me sad.— SoaR 𝒊𝒍𝒍𝑺𝒑𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒚 (@illSpooky) August 19, 2021 Ultimately, the community is split on what they believe is the most OP weapon in the battle royale at the minute. If one weapon starts to stand out above the rest, be it because it’s being exploited, Respawn will liekly implent changes. Though, for now, players will just have to carry on as normal.

Apex Legends players criticize price of ‘Petty Theft’ Loba Skin Bundle – Dexerto
Apex Legends players criticize price of ‘Petty Theft’ Loba Skin Bundle Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have criticized developers Respawn over the price of a new Loba skin bundle, called ‘Petty Theft’, and costing 5,000 Apex Coins. While many players have praised Respawn’s colorful and varied skin designs, there have been fairly consistent complaints from players that some in-game cosmetics are over-priced. Respawn have, in the past, defended the price of skins, saying that: “we think about this constantly and it’s tough because we want Apex to be around for a long time. Us being able to continue to make the game depends on operating a healthy business.” They did, though, acknowledge that getting the balance right is a “tough challenge”. An upcoming Loba skin bundle, for the Genesis Collection event, has reignited the debate over cosmetic prices. The ‘Petty Theft’ bundle, which includes a skin for the High Society Thief, as well as 7 Event Packs, costs 5,000 Apex Coins. Although currencies mean exact values can vary, 1,000 Apex Coins cost roughly $10. 5,000 Apex Coins, therefore, costs approximately $50 (roughly £36 or €42). A number of disgruntled players took to Reddit to criticize the skin bundle for its high price tag. One post called Respawn out for charging $50 for “a skin and some lootboxes”. It quickly garnered significant attention, with just shy of 4,000 upvotes at the time of writing. Many comments echoed the sentiments of the OP, with one saying: “Collection event prices are so ridiculous.” Another agreed, saying: “The real bullshit is that you can’t buy 5000 coins, so either you spend more or have to do multiple transactions. I’m not going to do either of those anyway, but it’s pretty annoying that they keep doing that.” However, a number of players pointed out that, compared to the normal prices, the bundle does represent an opportunity to save money. Collection event packs sell for $7 on average, while legendary skins generally sell for just shy of $20. With these figures in mind, the bundle offers roughly $69 of content for $50. Many also pointed out the 80/20 rule – the idea that game developers make 80% of their money off just 20% of the player base. The argument follows that the more expensive cosmetics are not for every player, just the ones willing to invest their money into the game. Whether a reshuffle to the store is coming is another matter, but some continue to take issue with the high prices of in-game cosmetics.

Apex Legends players create super Wraith portal using Trident on Olympus – Dexerto
Apex Legends players create super Wraith portal using Trident on Olympus Respawn EntertainmentEver wondered how far you can travel using Wraith’s Dimensional Rift? Well, a group of Apex Legends players may have created the longest portal at 1300 yards in total. Wraith has remained one of the most popular characters in Apex Legends since the game’s release back in 2019. Her kit is incredibly fun to use and she’s an extremely powerful Legend in the right player’s hands, so it’s no surprise she’s still a favorite among fans. Her Ultimate, Dimensional Rift, is one of the most unique abilities in the game. It allows her to create a portal from one location to another and provide a rotation tool for her squad. Of course, you could use this ability effectively to help yourself win matches, or you could grab some of your friends and attempt to create the longest portal ever made. Luckily for us, Reddit user JTTYUS chose the latter of those options. The longest Wraith portal ever created in Apex Legends A thread posted to the Apex Legends subreddit showcasing one of the longest Wraith portals ever created has gone viral. At the time of writing, the post has an unbelievable 19,800 upvotes and over 250 comments. The incredible video shows a group of players using a Trident vehicle and Revenant’s Ultimate to create a super portal. Read More: When does Apex Legends Season 8 start? – For starters, the player picks up Revenant’s Death Totem, and then the whole squad jumps into the Trident. They then utilize the Trident supply bin trick that launches the vehicle through the air and across the map. Once they’ve landed, the Wraith simply activates her Dimensional Rift just before the Death Totem effect returns her to her previous location. This is what creates the across-map portal that their whole squad can use. Unfortunately, they’re ambushed before they can use the rift properly but nonetheless, it’s an amazing trick. It’s obvious Respawn hasn’t programmed the Ultimate to operate at that long of a distance. You can see this when they enter the super portal and the normal rift animation is bugged. Either way, their experiment made for an absolutely amazing clip and, as far as we know, stands as the longest Wraith portal to ever be created in-game. If that isn’t an achievement, we don’t know what is.

Apex Legends players convinced they die much faster in Season 20 – Dexerto
Apex Legends players convinced they die much faster in Season 20 RespawnMuch of the Apex Legends community is certain that the game’s time to kill has been decreased with the release of the Season 20 update. February 13th saw the release of the Season 20 update for Apex Legends, bringing some tweaks and changes to the popular battle royale. While there are some changes have been appreciated by the community, there are others that have not hit home quite as well. This includes the game’s time to kill, which the Apex Legends playerbase is convinced has been shortened excessively. Apex Legends players claim that Season 20 has quicker deaths The issue was brought up over on the Apex Legends subreddit, where a frustrated player made a post titled: “Anyone else dying extremely quickly since season 20 update?” They have experienced this in both the game’s casual and ranked play modes, and that it is really hampering their experience in the game. Based on the responses in the thread, it appears that others have been noticing something similar: “THIS IS EXACTLY HOW I’VE BEEN FEELING OMG!!! I’m pretty decent but I’m dying so fast … I’ve rage quit the game like 3 times today lol.” That said, many Apex Legends fans have mentioned that this kind of thing happens all the time whenever a new season begins. “It’s because every single master and pred player has their MMR and rank reset and are scattered through bronze silver and gold in order to climb up.” This lowered time to kill goes both ways, and only those who run through multiple squads or take extended firefights will be getting red shields in Season 20. So, while the time to kill may feel lower, it’s also likely that players just need some time to get used to the new season.

Apex Legends players convinced Ash got secretly nerfed in Season 20 update – Dexerto
Apex Legends players convinced Ash got secretly nerfed in Season 20 update Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are convinced Ash has been hit with a secret nerf in the Season 20: Breakout update that delays her Arc Snare tactical even further. The last few seasons of Apex Legends have been a bit up and down for Respawn’s battle royale. At times, the player count has dropped off a cliff as fans have been tired of ongoing issues in the Apex Games, but Season 20 is aimed at changing many of those. Season 20 hasn’t added a new Legend to the mix, but Legend upgrades and shields have been overhauled. You now have the ability to upgrade your Legend during a match – typically in the early-to-mid game period – with these upgrades being things like overhauling the current tactical ability or something different altogether. Of course, the new season has also brought about some changes to the current crop of Legends, but there is one tweak that has got players backs up – and that’s because it wasn’t mentioned by Respawn. Ash quietly nerfed again in Apex Legends Season 20 Apex Legends fan Blinky-doo was left frustrated after uncovering the fact that the cooldown on Ash’s Arc Snare tactical has been increased. “Respawn found a way to nerf the worst legend in the game. The snare cooldown is now 25s even without leveling up. It was 20s before,” they said before claiming that Ash is “dead” if the change isn’t a bug. Players quickly tested Ash’s abilities to see if it was just an issue on one end, but quickly noted that it appears to be the case across both console and PC. “Glad someone caught it. It honestly would be too easy for them to stealth nerf/add a few seconds to any tactical or ultimate and not say anything,” another said. “Love Ash, but she’s been dead… and this is the nail in the coffin,” added another. Other players urged Respawn to make good on the “tragic” change, but it remains to be seen if they will do so anytime soon.

Respawn confirm fix after accidentally nerfing aim assist in Apex Legends – Dexerto
Respawn confirm fix after accidentally nerfing aim assist in Apex Legends Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Season 11 is finally upon us, but coming into Escape, console players believe that controller aim assist has been nerfed – despite not being mentioned in the patch notes. Update Nov 3 Respawn confirmed players’ suspicions about an unlisted nerf to Apex Legends’ aim assist on controllers. The developers had accidentally set aim assist on consoles to PC values, making a vast difference to the feature. Well, we goofed. With the launch of Escape, aim assist on console was unintentionally set to PC values. It’s back to normal now. — Respawn (@Respawn) November 3, 2021 The studio has caught wind of the “goof” and has reverted the accidental change to pre-Escape settings. Original story follows below… Apex Legends Season 11, Escape, has introduced a slew of new content to the battle royale behemoth. With Titanfall’s Ash finally joining as a playable character, players can also jet off to the stunning shores of the tropical-themed map, Storm Point. Of course, a new season means a series of buffs and nerfs to existing systems. While the long-awaited buffs to defensive Legend, Wattson, have eclipsed the other adjustments this patch, players believe one major nerf has been added silently. Console players have noticed that the game’s aim assist feels less responsive than it had been previously, leading many to question whether this is just an accident, a bug, or a genuine nerf. Aim assist has become a must-have for players looking to play to the best of their ability on console. Due to controller toggles simply not allowing for the same micro-adjustments as mice, the system is important for balancing in a cross-play game like Apex. However, post-Season 11 launch, players have suggested that Apex’s aim assist is a little “weaker” than it was before. “Did Respawn nerf the aim assist on Consoles secretly?” asks one player, who states that during a stream some of their subscribers noticed that “they felt aim assist [was] a little weaker on consoles.” This was echoed in another post, which shows a side-by-side of PC aim assist versus console and finds that they appear to “match.” On the subreddit’s dedicated bug thread, several comments note that “something got tweaked for sure” and that “aim assist is f**ked right now.” This has prompted a response from Technical Game Designer RobotHavGunz, who responded that there is “nothing [no nerfs] I’m aware of, but I can field it with the gameplay team.” Respawn did previously allude to potential changes to aim assist, but didn’t announce any concrete plans. As Respawn look into this issue, we should find out soon if this is a bug or a deliberate change.

Apex Legends players confused by “broken” audio playing random noises – Dexerto
Apex Legends players confused by “broken” audio playing random noises Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have been left confused after hearing random sounds during their matches, including Arc Stars, Wraith Tactical, and melee punches. Audio is one of the most important aspects of any battle royale, as maintaining an awareness of your surroundings and the potential position of enemies is key if you want to come out on top in a skirmish. This is especially true in Apex Legends where players can often hear an ability before they see a set of opponents. Depending on what has been used, squads can adapt and attempt to counter a push with a Tactical or Ultimate of their own. However, if sounds and audio are not working as intended, it can cause a lot of issues and confusion for teams. Well, that’s exactly what’s been occurring on the Storm Point map, with a lot of players claiming they’re hearing random “ghost” sounds that are triggering out of nowhere. Apex players claim random noises are occurring on Storm Point While playing a Duos game with their teammate on Storm Point, Reddit user eeighee experienced a strange audio bug that left them completely confused. During the match, the pair were rotating to another part of the map when they heard the sound of an Arc Star seemingly out of the blue. Assuming they were being attacked, the squad quickly readied themselves for a skirmish but no one was in sight. It didn’t take them long to realize that it was a bug as there was no explosion, only the sound of another player throwing an Arc Star. After posting the clip to Reddit, the thread was quickly filled with players claiming they’d heard similar sounds. “Are we all randomly hearing sounds? I hear the sound of punches sometimes… It didn’t really bother me just confused me so I didn’t bother looking further, but this is super weird.” It’s hard to know whether these sounds are triggering out of nowhere or being transmitted from somewhere else on the map due to a bug. This isn’t the first time players have complained about the strange noises on Storm Point, with some claiming at the start of Season 11 that the Lightning Rod POI is too loud. Either way, these “ghost” sounds are definitely something the devs need to look into as they have players questioning themselves and their surroundings mid-game.

Apex Legends players concerned Heirloom releases influence buffs & nerfs – Dexerto
Apex Legends players concerned Heirloom releases influence buffs & nerfs Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have noticed a recent trend that characters only seem to receive major changes alongside an Heirloom release. With a new Legend being added to the Apex roster every single season, the game’s meta is constantly evolving and that means Respawn has to be on the ball with buffs & nerfs. Over the past year, a lot of the community has been critical of how long it takes the devs to make changes to Legends with an incredibly low pick rate, with Wattson and Crypto being prime examples. While a lot of players have put this down to the devs being cautious about the overall balance of the game, others are speculating that it is done deliberately for monetary gain. Noticing a pattern between Heirloom releases and major changes to Legends, some players are convinced Respawn pairs the two releases together on purpose. Players notice trend between Heirlooms & Legend changes As noted by dataminer and Apex Legends YouTuber garret in his latest video, the last set of Collection Events have all arrived with major changes to the Legend receiving an Heirloom. This was the case for Rampart in Evolution, Wattson in Raiders, and now assuming the leaks are correct, Crypto will likely be the next Legend to receive a buff and an Heirloom. While it makes sense from a monetary point of view, it has led players to question whether Respawn has deliberately not buffed Crypto just to wait for his Heirloom to be completed. Although this is purely speculation from the community, it has raised a few eyebrows about the balancing in Apex as a whole. When it comes to making major changes to a Legend, it makes sense to pair it up with an Heirloom so it can be presented as an entire event. However, the concern comes from how long these underused Legends remain untouched, with Crypto sitting as one of the least popular Legends since his release. Either way, we’ll just have to see what Respawn has in store for players in Season 12 and whether the trend continues.

Apex Legends players concerned as data shows Warzone streamers are bringing hackers – Dexerto
Apex Legends players concerned as data shows Warzone streamers are bringing hackers Twitter, @NICKMERCS / Respawn EntertainmentWith drama surrounding Call of Duty’s Warzone battle royale, Apex Legends has been getting a lot more love from major Twitch streamers. Unfortunately, players have dug up data which suggests that hackers are switching over as well. The most prominent problem with Warzone over the past few months has been the overwhelming amount of hackers found in higher-skilled lobbies. Apex, a game less-known for hacking issues, has therefore become a refuge of sorts for frustrated Warzone players. With huge names like NICKMERCS (whose viewership is regularly above the 50,000 mark) swapping over to grind the Respawn Entertainment battle royale, Apex Legends has surged past Warzone in Twitch popularity. The added attention is great, but some of it is coming from the wrong people. As Reddit’s ‘Mayor-of-Apex’ has pointed out, some of the major Warzone streamer’s seem to be bringing over hackers. According to search data on google, queries like “Apex Legends aimbot” are surging. Looking at options like Apex Legends “aimbot, hacks, cheats,” Mayor uses Google’s Keyword Planner to find out that there has been a 658% increase in such searches. While this doesn’t mean there’s 658% more hackers in Apex now than before, it does show that the cheaters are looking. And this type of research can be replicated even without Keyword Planner, as a simple check on Google Trends shows that searches for “Apex Legends hack” hit new peaks in July 2021 (right around the Warzone exodus). Of course, the increase in hack searches can’t be blamed on Warzone streamers since they don’t control their viewers. And you can’t assume that more searches will mean more hackers in-game, especially since Apex has had a better history preventing cheaters than Warzone has. But, nonetheless, more interested hackers is a worrying sign. Considering Apex’s former issues with DDoS attacks and calls for a stricter anti-cheat, one has to wonder if some of these new searchers will successfully slip through the cracks. Only time will tell if more hackers are coming to Apex Legends, but, for now, Respawn Entertainment should keep an eye out — because the cheaters most certainly are.
