Apex Legends players complain that SBMM is broken Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends SBMM continues to prove a big point of contention in Season 9, with many frustrated players calling for Respawn to fix it for good. Apex Legends Season 9 may have included plenty of new content for players to delve into, but the latest update has been far from smooth. While the 1.69 patch may have fixed Wattson fences and added abandon penalties to Arenas, fans are still frustrated by the unfair nature of the game’s SBMM system. Just like any competitive FPS title, Apex Legends matchmaking is designed off skill. In theory, this means players should be put in lobbies with other similarly ranked players. Despite this, the Apex Legends community is adamant that this is not the case. Some fans even believe that the game’s SBMM has gotten even worse since the Season 9 update dropped. Whether you’re a stalwart advocate of SBMM in games or remain indifferent to the matter, there’s no denying how frustrating this issue can be. Apex Legends players call for SBMM changes In a tweet, last year, Respawn’s Principal Coder Michael Kalas confirmed that Apex Legends doesn’t use Engagement Optimized matchmaking (EOMM) – a form of matchmaking that is tailored around a number of factors. “Apex matchmaking is designed off skill. It’s not literally designed to make you lose, spend, nor play longer,” Kalas said. “Apex features are designed and measured to result in fun, entertainment, accomplishment, playing longer, etc.” While Respawn confirmed that SBMM was working as intended, it has done little to quell the overall anger towards the current matchmaking system. “This game has the most busted-ass skill-based matchmaking of any multiplayer game I’ve ever played,” says PolishMuhGrapple. “Either this game just has no more casual players in it (a distinct possibility) or this game seems to think I’m far better than I actually am.” PolishMuhGrapple certainly hits on an interesting point. Apex Legends is no longer the new BR on the block and as a result, the playerbase will naturally start to increase in skill. Of course, there will always be new players picking up the game, but the chances of being ranked against these new players should theoretically be lower unless you share the same level of skill. However, this doesn’t seem to be the case for many Apex players. “My KDR is sub-1 and I have to play 10 games vs 4k 20 bomb players who wall jump and crouch spam. Basically always getting beamed, before I finally get put in a bot lobby or whatever,” says vrazix. “It’s really frustrating and definitely feels like a sudden change from S8.” The SBMM problem mainly occurs in casual matches where players of all skill levels can meet on the virtual battlefields. Unfortunately, this does lead to some very one-sided matches. I am a lv 70 0.7 KDA Gold 3 player, getting matched with Master and Diamond badge players every game in casual,” says KampongFish. “It’s hilarious how games are way easier in ranked because I am forced to play with gold players.” This sentiment appears to be echoed throughout the community, but whether Respawn will adjust the game’s current SBMM remains to be seen. Apex Legends players complain that evac towers have made one Legend “irrelevant” – Dexerto
Apex Legends players complain that evac towers have made one Legend “irrelevant” Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Valkyrie players complain that with the introduction of evac towers, her ultimate ability is now useless. Valkyrie was released in season 9 of Apex Legends. She gave players a new way to escape the zone and relocate on the map with her Skyward Dive ultimate ability. Valkyrie was immensely popular among casuals and pros for many seasons, despite nerfs to the Legend. Then Evac Towers were added to the game in season 17 of Apex Legends. They take up the same inventory slot as an item like a Heat Shield, and provide players with a easy way to re-position without Valkyrie. Now Valkyrie players are upset and think that their character has been made redundant by Respawn. Apex Legends players debate how meta Valkyrie is One player started a debate by claiming that Valkyrie now needs a buff after the introduction of Evac Towers. They shout the Legend was now “irrelevant” and needs “a buff” to her ultimate height. A lot of people agreed with the Redditor, claiming that Valkyrie’s ultimate is way too weak in the current state of the game: “Ever since they made her ascent slower and took out the ability to spin it seems like anyone who’s been keeping up with practice can shoot you out of the ult with ease.” But the post also caused a lot of controversy in the Apex Legends community. One player pointed out Valkyrie’s strengths, even if the ultimate isn’t as strong as it use to be. They claimed she can “take height at any moment” with her passive, and on top of that has “an offensive Q.” Other players didn’t think that the Evac Tower had any effect on Valkyrie at all. Some Apex Legend players thought it made her even better. They pointed out that Valkyrie can carry an Evac Tower as well, and combining this with her passive she can “scout any area she wants”, and still have her ultimate to relocate. Valkyrie used to be a top Legend in the game. But now more are more players, pros and casuals, are seeing Revenant as a top pick in Apex Legends.

Apex Legends players compare “overpriced” skins to Warzone bundles – Dexerto
Apex Legends players compare “overpriced” skins to Warzone bundles Respawn Entertainment/ActivisionApex Legends players are growing increasingly frustrated with the price of skins and other cosmetics in the Apex store — now comparing them to the more modestly-priced Warzone bundles. The price of cosmetics in Apex Legends has long been a divisive issue among players. For a high-tier skin, for example, you’re likely going to be set back around $20 which, while many people are happy to pay, there is also a significant number who are not. That’s made the store a sour topic of conversation for many Apex players, especially considering how many awesome cosmetics there are in the game, and the possibility that many players are unable to justify the cost. To further prove their point, one player has compared the price of Apex skins to one of the new cosmetic bundles in Warzone — and they’re not impressed. In terms of battle royale titles, Warzone is still kind of the new kid on the block. It came out a couple of years after Apex, but with the fact that it’s a Call of Duty battle royale, was always bound to be an immediate hit, and for that reason it’s been one of Apex’s biggest competitors in the BR market. As with all games in the space, though, there are some elements that players want from others. For example, Fortnite’s Reboot Van was seemingly a direct imitation of Apex’s Respawn Beacon. Now, players are calling for the Apex devs to look to the Warzone store for inspiration, impressed by what the CoD game is offering. As shown in the example provided by Lord_Despairagus on Reddit, for the price of 2400 CoD Points (or $19.99), Warzone players get not only a skin, but multiple weapon blueprints, a new melee weapon, a charm, a ‘quip’, an emblem and a spray. This is in stark comparison to Apex, in which you’ll often have to spend that $20 just getting the skin alone, with no other cosmetic items bundled with it — and this is the point the Reddit post aims to make. Many of the comments agree with the sentiment of the post, calling Apex skins “overpriced” and commending Activision for the effort that goes into their cosmetic bundles, especially at that price point. Of course, there will have been countless hours put into market research, as well as plenty of other data to support Respawn’s pricing decisions and, needless to say, if the price wasn’t working for them, it would be reduced. Whether Warzone inspires them to make changes to store prices remains to be seen.

Apex Legends players come up with new LTM after final Ring slap fight – Dexerto
Apex Legends players come up with new LTM after final Ring slap fight Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have pitched a news LTM after one fan showed off a hectic final Ring they experienced during a match. The conversation surrounding Apex Legends’ LTMs is a constant among the community, as many players feel consistent LTMs should be in the game mode rotation alongside Battle Royale and Arenas. Developer Respawn Entertainment has teased more LTMs are in the works, but players are eager to pitch their own ideas for modes they think would make fun additions to the game. Now, players are suggesting a melee-oriented LTM could be a great addition to the game after one player showed off an insanely hectic final Ring. Apex Legends players want melee-focused LTM A post on the ApexLegends subreddit gained traction among the community after it showed off a video of what appears to be a dozen or so players all fighting to survive the final Ring. However, instead of using guns or grenades, the players appear to use only melee and Legend abilities to survive the ever-enclosing Ring. While some players compared this idea to Olympus’ Boxing Ring, the area freely lets players leave the ring anytime they want and is only found on one map. Because of this, some players found the idea of a melee-focused LTM pretty intriguing. “They should add community ideas for LTM like there are so many people tweaking things on Reloaded,” said one player. Others noted the idea sounded fun but would need some balance adjustments to work properly or stay interesting. “Looks fun but I wouldn’t play it for 2 weeks, maybe add more impulse to grenades or more movement items,” suggested another player. A different fan suggested the mode should be, “A boxing ring mode with 5 squads grenades and melee. With a gun with 100 shots in the center of the ring. Maybe have random events where cargo balls spawn in with guns with only the ammo they come with.” While fans will be getting a brand new LTM shortly in the form of the upcoming Date Night LTM, it’s clear players are always eager for more modes to keep Apex Legends fresh and engaging.

Apex Legends players come up with crazy idea for Skull Town return – Dexerto
Apex Legends players come up with crazy idea for Skull Town return Apex Legends will be bringing back Kings Canyon once again for a limited time, which means it’s a return to the first map everyone called home, but some players want Respawn to take it a bit further. The original map will always hold a special place in the heart of players since it was the first memory a lot of them had with the game. Kings Canyon has come back in the past and it’s currently gearing up for yet another return on January 24. Instead of being the map we all know and love, it’s going to be the nighttime variant, but it’s returning nonetheless. After just two days, the map will leave again until another LTM in the future brings it back. Fans are sick of this happening and want a more consistent way to play on the map, and have come up with their own idea. In fact, Reddit user dinohunterpat has narrowed it down even more and wants just Skull Town to return, but with an added twist. The spin they want the location to take is to bring the player count down to 24 and make it so they respawn. Essentially, it’d turn into a free-for-all deathmatch mode, but it could also easily be turned into a 11v11 or even split it into eight squads of three. Of course, an easy suggestion to make would be telling these people to play the criminally underrated Titanfall 2, where a deathmatch mode like this is already present. Titanfall 2 and Apex Legends may have their share of similarities, but the differences are enough to make that suggestion fall onto deaf ears for a lot of players. Skull Town was a popular location for players who like to hot drop onto the map. It was always bustling with opponents at the beginning of the game, so there was always bound to be a lot of early action whenever you landed there. While a mode like this would eliminate the thrill of dropping there and not knowing what to expect, just having Skull Town back in the game would be more than enough for many.

Apex Legends players come across mysterious ‘ghosts’ in Kings Canyon – Dexerto
Apex Legends players come across mysterious ‘ghosts’ in Kings Canyon Daily Apex Moments / Respawn EntertainmentMysterious projections on the Apex Legends map have some players believing that the popular battle royale title may be haunted by ghosts. On July 29, a Reddit user named ‘MattDawg44‘ posted a video showing a phenomenon that some are calling evidence of their being ghosts in Apex Legends. In the clip, the player saw a shadowy figure running behind a large boulder, with the Ring rapidly closing in around the part of the map they were standing on. The player instinctively began to shoot at the other side of the boulder, expecting the apparent enemy to run out from that direction, but no one came out. Further inspection of the area behind the rock revealed that there was nobody hiding. What makes this whole scenario that much more weird and confusing was that there was no death-box behind the boulder either, and the in-game kill-feed did not indicate that anyone was eliminated by the Ring around the time that the figure was seen going into hiding. If this were the only instance where an unexplained figure was seen on the map, conclusions could be confidently drawn that it was some sort of glitch or bug. However, this isn’t the first time that players have claimed to have seen ghosts in King’s Canyon, with videos existing on Reddit that go as far back as March. The clip below, although very short, displays a barely-visible humanoid shape dashing around the player and his teammate. Another video, also published just a day ago, shows something similar happen when the player engaged an enemy Bangalore, who tried to hide behind a tree for cover. However, after waiting for a few seconds for the opponent to expose himself, the player finally pushed to check behind the tree and noticed that there was no longer anyone there. Another video, posted about three months ago, features the player running out in the open until what appears to be an enemy Legend is seen gliding out of the corner of the vantage point. However, when the player turned around, there was nobody there, leading the Twitch clip to be titled “I have just witnessed the ghost of Apex Legends.” Possible explanations for this phenomenon There are several explanations for what could be causing this mysterious projections to appear in Apex Legends. One possible explanation is that these players left the game or disconnected, causing their bodies to vanish from the map. While this is plausible, it does not account for the fact that there were not death-chests left behind, and players who leave are still generally seen in the game for a few moments before they completely vanish. Of course, this could all be the result of a glitch or a bug, which seems like the likeliest theory, since Apex Legends isn’t exactly clean of issues that can cause game-breaking stuff like this to happen. At the end of the day, whether these projections are indeed ghosts are just the results of a bug, at least now you have some sort of idea if you ever come across one in-game.

Apex Legends players clown Ultimate Accelerant after new animation update – Dexerto
Apex Legends players clown Ultimate Accelerant after new animation update Respawn EntertainmentDeveloper Respawn gave healing items brand new animations in Apex Legends’ Beast of Prey update, but players noticed one left-out item. The Beast of Prey update for Apex Legends brought with it the new Gun Run LTM along with loads of new cosmetics. However, Respawn also quietly included brand new animations for the game’s healing items and even some Legends. However, fans noticed one support item, the Ultimate Accelerant, was left out and are making fun of how little sense its animation actually makes. Apex Legends players clown Ultimate Accelerant animation A post on the Apex Legends subreddit noticed the lack of new animation for the Ultimate Accelerant and said “…we’re STILL tapping nonexistent buttons for Ultimate Accelerants.” It certainly seems like an odd exclusion, as the item’s animation certainly stands out now among the rest of the support items. For those who may not know, the current animation has the chosen legend pull out a digital screen of some kind, insert a chip into the bottom, and tap the screen randomly while the item activates. However, the display on the screen simply shows a circular loading icon, while the player’s Legend simply taps non-existent keys. Players in the community agreed, the animation made little sense. “They’re just pretending to press buttons just like when we awkwardly press buttons and pretend we’re scrolling through our phones in public,” said user paultheway. Another fan asked what a better animation would be and asked, “So what should we do instead, play Geometry Dash?” Of course, plenty of players still don’t like Respawn’s decision to change healing animations and said the Ultimate Accelerant didn’t need an update either. “…The thing that I dislike the most about these changes is that they start doing really dumb changes, why not focus on the UI clutter for charms? Why focus on animations that don’t need adjustments?” Naturally, it’s impossible to please everyone, but it’s clear that some fans wish Respawn would have gone the extra mile and updated the Ultimate Accelerants’ animations as well.

Apex Legends players claim Wraith is totally “broken” because of hit reg issues – Dexerto
Apex Legends players claim Wraith is totally “broken” because of hit reg issues Respawn/EAApex Legends believe Wraith has become totally “broken” due to the ongoing hit reg issues in Season 13, with some demanding that Respawn steps in and address things. Over the last few seasons, Apex players have run into a number of issues that are out of their control – with servers continually lagging, DDoS attacks ruining lobbies altogether, and even running into the occasional hacker. Season 13 has addressed a few of these issues, but there have been a few new problems cropping up too. Mainly, over the last few weeks, players have been left flabbergasted by hit reg issues that make their bullets go through an enemy without causing damage – even if it looks like it has registered with blood splatter. These problems aren’t just limited to one hero, but it seems as if Wraith is causing the biggest headache of them all, with players claiming she is “incredibly broken” right now. While these hit reg issues can pop up at random, a number of Apex fans across social media have pointed to the fact that Wraith can sort of make it happen on demand by using her tactical. “How is a full mag + more of non-registered hits even possible? Shouldn’t stuff like this be prioritized over new skins and other miscellaneous stuff?” asked Redditor bevinkroman. “Seems to be happening a lot to me regardless of which legend but definitely most prominent with Wraiths,” they added. Other players noted that they’ve also suffered more with the issues when going after enemies Wraiths. “It is bound to happen with the most picked legend,” added one. “It happens the most to me with Wraith, but also happens with every other legend really often.” The problem has led to players calling on Repsawn to fix things during the Awakening Collection event. Though, the issue does not make it into the initial patch notes. Two issues with Wraith’s portals will be addressed right off the bat, but for this issue – while Respawn is aware of it – we’ll just have to wait a little longer.

Apex Legends players claim Warzone 2.0 made them “respect” Apex more – Dexerto
Apex Legends players claim Warzone 2.0 made them “respect” Apex more Respawn Entertainment, ActivisionApex Legends players are finding a newfound appreciation for Respawn’s battle royale after diving into Warzone 2 and becoming frustrated with the sequel’s divisive gameplay. Warzone 2 promises plenty of new features for Call of Duty players, but the fresh battle royale experience has already spawned an army of detractors. Many players are already blasting through Modern Warfare 2’s battle pass, while Apex Legends players dabble with their first taste of Activision’s shooter. After forming their initial impressions of Warzone 2, Apex players are showing their rejuvenated praise for Respawn Entertainment following a lackluster experience with the CoD BR. Apex Legends stands as the “king” of BRs over Warzone 2, claim disappointed players Within the Apex Legends subreddit, avid player and Redditor cohaaaxo explained “I tried warzone 2.0 (first time warzone) and I started respecting apex more.” The frustrated player cited muddled controls after finding that Warzone 2 didn’t have “better movement” than Respawn’s BR: “I feel so disappointed at warzone and aim assists on controller feel sooo op in Warzone.” “Apex is king of battle royals right now and people who tell the opposite either didn’t try Apex or they just suck at Apex,” continued the Redditor. An abundance of Apex players shared the same perspective, with fellow player Aixcix joining in the conversation: “Playing other BRs and Legend Shooters make me realize how freaking good the core gameplay of Apex is.” “I’m the same, I played Warzone yesterday for the first time and it will be the last time. The games are so long and boring, the loot and graphics all suck,” added Redditor RamboSambo7. However, Warzone 2 did manage to find a few defenders of its BR gameplay. Player asj9819 said, “I played Warzone 2 for a day and it was more fun than this game because I didn’t have to sweat too much and it has a bigger map and matchmaking makes somewhat more sense, at least I didn’t feel skill gap in pubs.” Modern Warfare 2’s first season is currently underway and if you’re diving into Warzone 2, make sure you’ve got the best loadouts set up for securing the dub. Apex Legends players claim “unplayable” Xbox input lag still isn’t fixed after patch – Dexerto
Apex Legends players claim “unplayable” Xbox input lag still isn’t fixed after patch Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are claiming that they’re still experiencing Xbox input lag issues, despite Respawn rolling out a patch to fix the problem on July 5. While the Awakening Collection event introduced Valkyrie’s Suzaku Heirloom, brand new cosmetics, and the Lifeline Town Takeover to Apex Legends, it also accidentally added serious input lag issues for Xbox users. As a result, a lot of console players have been unable to enter matches over the last few weeks due to “unplayable” performance issues affecting Respawn’s battle royale. Well, on July 5, the devs finally rolled out a patch to fix the problem and it was assumed that the backlash from fans would end there. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case, as some players are claiming that the update hasn’t fixed the frustrating Xbox input lag. Apex Legends players claim patch hasn’t fixed Xbox input lag Shortly after the July 5 patch, a thread was created on the Apex Legends subreddit to discuss whether the update had resolved the Xbox input lag problems. While responses from the community were positive at first, as the hours passed on, more and more players began to express that the input lag issues were still present on Xbox. This has led to a lot of frustration from certain players, who were not able to earn rewards from the Awakening Collection event due to performance issues. “Was fixed for an hour or so then went back to unplayable,” wrote one player. “I f***ing give up with this game and dev team.” Other players have claimed that although the input lag has been reduced, the patch has made the gameplay feel “choppy” and “laggy”. “Alright, So y’all fixed the input delay, now the game is laggy and choppy,” wrote another frustrated player. “Goodness sakes, just reset the engine and start over lol.” Of course, this backlash from the fans will need to be investigated by Respawn as a lot of players have already been waiting two weeks for a fix. If this update didn’t resolve the issue, there’s going to be a lot of frustration from the community, who are already complaining about the rampant problems with hit reg.

Apex Legends players claim TDM issues stem from “toxic” community – Dexerto
Apex Legends players claim TDM issues stem from “toxic” community Respawn EntertainmentThe rollout of TDM, the newest game mode in Apex Legends, hasn’t been a smooth one. However, many players have the backs of the developers and are claiming that many of the issues with the mode are the result of a “community with a bad attitude”. Apex Legends is one of the most popular games in the world and has consistently topped the steam charts for the last few years. What’s more, it’s still breaking its own player count records. The battle royale aspect of the game is very popular, but other modes in the game haven’t historically fared as well. The addition of TDM to Apex Legends has had its fair share of issues. It was meant to replace Arenas as a casual game mode, one for people who didn’t want to queue up for the standard BR mode. However, a large portion of the Apex Legends community has shown support for the developers and claimed that, if players weren’t leaving matches and causing problems, the mode would be just fine. Apex Legends players defend devs amid TDM controversy Team Deathmatch is, conceptually, a simple mode. It’s a 6v6 that pits players against each other, with the first team to a certain amount of kills winning the game. However, players have been leaving games early and making it difficult to finish a match of the mode. Due to a lack of penalties for leaving matches and the inability of the mode to put new players into ongoing matches, players were getting stuck in games they couldn’t finish because there was no one on the enemy team. In the days since Season 16’s launch, players have been very vocal in asking for fixes to these issues. However, a separate section of the community claims that these problems only exist because players are leaving games in the first place. With all 6 players loaded into the game, the mode works just fine. A change was made to swap TDM away from being 3 rounds and converted it into 1, a change that was well-received by the community, but it was never non-functional when players stayed in lobbies and played the game out. Reddit users pointed out how “toxic” the community could be at times and sympathized with Respawn developers when it comes to trying to figure out what will please the playerbase. Team Deathmatch hasn’t been live long, so it remains to be seen whether or not this mode has any staying power. No matter what changes are made to the mode, many fans seem convinced that the playerbase itself is a huge part of the reason why new game modes don’t stick around long.

Apex Legends players claim Sentinel is still broken despite Respawn’s patch – Dexerto
Apex Legends players claim Sentinel is still broken despite Respawn’s patch Respawn/EAApex Legends players believe there are still some issues with the Sentinel sniper rifle, even after Respawn removed it from the game to implement some fixes. Just like its battle royale rivals Warzone and Fortnite, Apex Legends has gone through a few periods where one weapon in particular is just game-breaking. Most recently, that issue has come from the Rampage LMG and Sentinel sniper rifle as players were able to get an unlimited charge on both weapons to deal more damage. Respawn even took the major step of removing both weapons from the loot pool as they looked to get the issues fixed. They’ve since returned after some tweaks, however, players are still running into issues with the Sentinel that they believe should have been addressed already. A handful of players across players have pointed out that charging the Sentinel still causes a few headaches. That includes the timer for the charge running out, but the weapon not being amped up. As the clip from Redditor MacieJakk shows, the weapon is still a bit inconsistent with the charging up phase, taking a few goes to get to the Amped stage. “They should’ve fixed that already,” noted one player. “Honestly just glad it’s back in the game but Respawn can do better and we all know it,” added Crybabymango, with another pointing out that the amount of Shield Cells needed to charge the weapon is also incorrect. Some players also noted that since the Sentinel and Rampage returned, they’ve been able to pick both weapons up in their charged states, without the need for a Thermite grenade or a Shield Cell charge. Given that the bug is a little spotty, and both weapons have just gone under the microscope, it seems unlikely that Respawn will make changes anytime soon. Though, players are desperate for a change.

Apex Legends players claim new Promotional Trials are “ruining” the game – Dexerto
Apex Legends players claim new Promotional Trials are “ruining” the game Respawn/EAApex Legends fans have hit out at the new Promotional Trials, explaining they are “ruining” the game as they change player behavior. For a long time, the Apex Legends community have taken issue with the devs when it comes to ranked play, with many pleading for changes as the system pushed “ratters” to hide from their opponents rather than playing as intended in hopes of ranking up. With the release of Season 19, the devs attempted to tackle the issue head-on, forcing players to complete promotional trials to prove their worth before they can rank up to the next tier. However, the community is already hitting out at the change, claiming it’s “ruining” the game Apex Legends fans claim Promotional Trials “ruins” the game In a November 5 Reddit thread, one Apex Legends player started a discussion regarding Promotional Trials, which they claim is “ruining the quality of the game.” “Ratting and avoiding fights has always been an issue in ranked,” they explained. “But with the promotional trials requiring multiple top 5s or wins to rank up it’s encouraging this behavior exponentially more. “Pretty much every game we would take a fight and our third would dip immediately — including fights where we had the clear upper hand like when one of the enemies was knocked or we had better positioning.” They added: “As more and more people get stuck in the promotional trials it’s going to lead to extremely passive behavior across the board — everybody playing selfishly and trying to get their top 5 rather than playing as a team or working together. And it’s ruining the quality of the game even more.” Others in the replies agreed, with some claiming the concept of promotional trials is “horrible” and that instead of discouraging ratting, the change is only increasing it. The devs are yet to respond to concerns from the community. However, we’ll be sure to keep you updated when they do.

Apex Legends players claim new LTM has “brought back the joy” to the game – Dexerto
Apex Legends players claim new LTM has “brought back the joy” to the game Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends love the new Three Strikes LTM, with some claiming it’s “brought the joy” back to the battle royale. Season 19 of Apex Legends is here, and with it came the first new event of the season: the Post Malone crossover event. Like other events, the Post Malone collab has introduced new event-centric cosmetics, Camo Credits, and Twitch Drops. However, the star of the show is the newly introduced Three Strikes LTM. It seems this LTM has already proved to be a massive hit with fans, as some claim it has “brought the joy” back to the fast-paced battle royale game. Apex Legends players loving Three Strikes LTM A post on the Apex Legends subreddit titled, “Three Strikes has brought back the joy of this game,” sparked a discussion among the community. In the post, the OP explained that they are a Day 1 fan with over 3,000 hours in the battle royale. While they said their excitement for Apex Legends has dwindled over the past few seasons, they claimed Three Strikes has renewed their love of the battle royale. “It has brought back so many of the feelings I had when I first started playing this game. Constant fighting, but without having to worry about getting 3rd partied. Continuous gameplay, without having to worry about a teammate quitting,” they explained. Many in the comments agreed that the mode felt like a breath of fresh air, with many calling for it to be made permanent. “It needs to be permanent. It’s absolutely the most fun I’ve had in quite a while. Constant fighting while keeping the BR format” said one fan. Some players have even said it makes their least favorite maps more enjoyable. “Broken Moon is the worst map. Except when it’s on Three Strikes, then it doesn’t matter. This game mode is so fun.” It’s still too early to say whether or not Respawn will consider making Three Strikes a permanent mode. However, many Apex Legends fans are having a great time with the LTM.

Apex Legends players claim Lifeline is “useless” after update – Dexerto
Apex Legends players claim Lifeline is “useless” after update EAApex Legends players are concerned that the recent Old Ways Lore event update made Lifeline “useless,” despite getting a new Passive ability involving Blue Bins. Even though the Combat Medic was once regarded as a top tier Legend in the battle royale, nerfs to her abilities along with overarching changes to the game actually dragged down her viability compared to other characters. The April 7 patch “buffed” the Legend with a new Passive that allows her to search through specially-marked Blue Bins for additional health items, weapon attachments, and knockdown shields that others don’t have access to. However, this was overshadowed by another change – a nerf to Low Profile. A few Legends have this Passive, including Lifeline, which makes them more difficult to hit. To balance that, any damage that is taken gets increased by 5%. In the Old Ways update, Respawn adjusted this ability so that limb shots on Low Profile characters “now deal as much damage as body shots.” Needless to say, this tweak makes Lifeline susceptible to taking a lot more damage, and, as a result, players are concerned that the cons of using her now outweigh the pros. “My least favorite part of these changes is that they are moving Lifeline from being a ‘Combat Medic’ to being a supplier of utility to her teammates,” Reddit user ‘StupidEnclave’ said. “At this point, her sole purpose is to make sure the teammates can fight, not yourself.” What’s more – the buffs given to other Legends over the past few updates, like Gibraltar, have further pulled Lifeline down the pecking order. “I made the switch from Lifeline to [Gibraltar] this season and haven’t looked back,” user ‘MrNiceDude’ said. “I’m actually a better healer now, I can res faster, protect from all angles [as opposed to Lifeline’s shield wall], and heal the whole team quicker… Lifeline is now useless and it makes me sad.” The other Legends who have Low Profile – Wraith, Pathfinder, and Wattson – all have either a way to escape or defend themselves, so this change doesn’t impact them as much as Lifeline. Wraith has her Into the Void tactical ability, Pathfinder can swing away with grappling hooks and ziplines, and even Wattson can at least wall off opponents and negate grenades. Lifelife has D.O.C. and a Care Package, neither of which can help her from getting bursted down in a pinch, which can be even more deadly following the update. It remains to be seen whether Respawn will consider this community feedback and give the Combat Medic a boost in the next patch. Until then, you’re probably better off not using her.

Apex Legends players claim July 13 update has made BR “unplayable” – Dexerto
Apex Legends players claim July 13 update has made BR “unplayable” Respawn/EAApex Legends players have bemoaned the battle royale’s latest update, claiming it has made the game “unplayable” due to the lag and connection issues it has brought about. Whenever problems have popped up in Apex Legends with the different characters, weapons, items, and maps, Respawn Entertainment have typically moved quickly to get things ironed out. However, problems with Loba’s bracelet ability presented the developers with a difficult puzzle to solve. They’ve pushed out numerous updates to address the broken tactical before, but they didn’t fix things. Though, the recent July 13 update – which also tackled the problems with hit reg around Wraith – appears to have sorted it out. Though, despite the positivity around those fixes, the new update has also created headaches for players, especially when it comes to connecting to a match. Apex Legends players furious with new update Since the update rolled out, players across social media have bemoaned the connection issues that they’ve been having – with some unable to start the game altogether. Those that have been able to hot drop into a match, though, have encountered the new lag signals over and over again, prompting them to give up. “I play no fill duos on ps5 and wasn’t having any issues until the update the other day, but now I’m experiencing really bad input delay sometimes up to half a full second,” Redditor DWheeler593 complained. “Same, it’s unplayable right now,” one player quickly agreed. “Game is unplayable for me on ps5 ever since the recent update. Only time it’s tolerable is early morning but still laggy,” added another. These connection issues aren’t entirely new, previous seasons have been plagued by them, but that doesn’t make them any less annoying. It remains to be seen if Respawn can get things ironed out before long, but we wouldn’t put it past them to have something in the works. As noted, they’ve tackled these types of issues multiple times before.

Apex Legends players claim it deserves the hate as they compare it to Warzone – Dexerto
Apex Legends players claim it deserves the hate as they compare it to Warzone Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are fed up with the current state of the game and claim it deserves all the hate the battle royale is receiving. It’s been four years since Respawn Entertainment shadow-dropped Apex Legends, its Titanfall-inspired free-to-play battle royale. Nineteen seasons of content have launched since the game arrived, introducing new playable characters, maps, weapons, and modes. The latest season saw a massive crossover between Post Malone and Apex, and fans loved the new LTM it introduced. The future surely holds more promise, such as the unexpected Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on the horizon. However, after the culmination of the Post Malone event, fans are livid with the state of the game. Apex Legends players rip the state of the game Soon after the conclusion of the Post Malone event, Respawn introduced the Uprising Collection event with a new suite of collectibles and a new LTM. Fans have since labeled the LTM as the “worst ever” for poor balancing issues. Fan ire has filled the game’s Reddit threads with numerous posts targeting issues like matchmaking, audio, skin pricing, and ranked play. Reddit user FloorAgile3458 perfectly summed up the experience in a scathing post where they started with a comparison to Warzone, another title that’s had its fair share of issues. “I don’t think the game has ever been in such a mismanaged state before (mismanaged doesn’t mean poor, it has definitely been substantially worse),” they stated. “Respawn can’t just do the exact same BS they’ve been doing the past 4 years and hope to get the same response, which wasn’t even that good in the first place.” Recently, Apex Legends’ player count has taken a noticeable hit, and the comments reiterated this sentiment. One user replied, “First time seeing such a steep drop off in player numbers,” to which others replied the arrival of The Finals must’ve had an impact. Others reflected on matchmaking, which has been a topic of ire in games across the industry, most notably Modern Warfare 3. “I agree that matchmaking is an utter joke. I’ve decided to just move on after 3 years,” a Reddit user commented. Many of these issues have been consistent complaints for quite some time, and time will tell if Respawn will address any of them.

Apex Legends players claim gifting system is “broken” & “stealing money” – Dexerto
Apex Legends players claim gifting system is “broken” & “stealing money” Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are claiming the gifting system is “broken” and refusing to send items, but it’s still “stealing” the coins for the transaction. Season 15 of Apex Legends added a huge amount of new content to the Outlands with the Broken Moon map, Catalyst, and an array of fresh cosmetics. Despite this, one of the most appreciated features was the gifting system that finally allowed players to buy their friends skins and collectibles. Initially, there was nothing but positive feedback from the community but recently, a lot of players have been having issues with gifting. Some claim the system is “broken” and despite paying coins to send an item, the recipient never received the gift. Apex Legends players slam “broken” gifting system In late December and early January, a lot of Apex players have been complaining that the gifting system is “bugged” and not sending items to the intended recipient after they’ve paid. This is leading them to waste their Apex coins and as Respawn hasn’t commented on the issue yet, it’s causing a huge amount of frustration. While the majority of complaints have been voiced over the last week, some players have said that gifts they sent over “a month ago” still haven’t arrived. Claiming Respawn and the gifting feature are “stealing money”, it’s clear the community is desperate for the devs to address the problem. Popular Apex Legends YouTuber Thordan Smash has gone as far to demand the removal of the gifting system until this bug is resolved. According to him, it’s unfair to keep gifting running as “unaware” players run the risk of “losing their money” for no reason. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see whether Respawn decides to disable gifting temporarily, or keep it running while a solution is discovered. Either way, it’s obvious players are growing impatient with the lack of communication and are cautious to use gifting just in case something goes wrong.

Apex Legends players claim G7 Scout is better in Season 14 than ever before – Dexerto
Apex Legends players claim G7 Scout is better in Season 14 than ever before Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends Season 14 has shaken up the game once more and the community is reflecting on whether or not the G2 Scout got better after exiting the care package this season. The state of weaponry in Apex Legends Season 14 is a complicated one. On top of the debut of Laser Sights for SMGs and the return of the Skullpiercer attachment, a host of other changes have flipped the game on its head. One of the biggest changes was the decision to bring the G7 Scout back to ground loot in favor of placing the Bocek Bow into the care package. While coming off the suped-up Red rarity status should hurt a weapon’s value, some players believe the Scout is even better coming off the floor. Apex Legends players claim G2 Scout is better than before in Season 14 The conversation kicked off when a player came to Reddit to ask if anyone else had noticed a difference in the weapon so far in the new season. “Does anybody else feel this way? Is it some sort of Mandela Effect?” they asked. As it turned out, they weren’t alone in feeling this way, and other members of the community flocked to the post to explain why they agree that the semi-auto rifle is much more viable now than as a special pickup. “It feels better because it has uncapped ammo, that was the downfall of the package version,” one fan inserted. A second player backed that theory up adding that the modest bullet count “sent you looking for a new gun” too quickly before. Another user claimed it has more to do with pacing than ammo, and that the nature of not finding care package weapons until the end game severely limited its effectiveness. “G7 is used a ‘tap’ gun from a distance. As a CP weapon that you usually got towards the end of the game, it really didn’t make sense.” It’s still early in the season, so the feeling of the rifle being stronger than before may fade away as players acclimate to using it again.

Apex Legends players claim constant “sweats” make it impossible to have fun – Dexerto
Apex Legends players claim constant “sweats” make it impossible to have fun Respawn EntertainmentAn Apex Legends player who decided to start learning the game over Christmas break sparked a conversation about how several long-term players haven’t been able to have fun with the game due to constantly matching against “sweaty” players. Apex Legends became an incredibly popular game almost overnight when it came out back in 2019, and the game hasn’t stopped since. If anything, its only grown in popularity, with new seasonal updates pulling easily half a million concurrent players on Steam alone. However, as players have gotten better and better at the game over the years, there are some who feel that they’ve been left behind and can’t compete in their matches anymore. While this may be a problem that’s impossible to entirely solve, this hasn’t kept veteran players from feeling like they’ve fallen behind despite playing for years and new players from feeling like the game is impossible to get into. Apex Legends players hit out at “sweaty” lobbies The conversation was sparked by a new player who took to the Apex Legends Reddit to tell the tale of his experience trying to learn the game in 2023. It’s expected for someone who’s coming into a game that’s been out for years to get smoked for a bit, but their experience was one that made the game unappealing after just a few matches. They claimed to have been killed in their very first real match by a player with 20,000 kills on their Legend of choice, with the next game being a similar experience. Even if OP wants to like the game, they’re having a hard time getting into it. As other players flooded into the thread to comment on OP’s plight, it was made clear that this isn’t an experience unique to new players. Apex Legends players of all skill levels seem to feel this way, though some were less optimistic than others about the current state of the game. “You will get better, that’s not the problem. The problem is no matter how good you get, it will always feel like what you’re experiencing now,” claimed one player, explaining that they’d always get matched against players better than them. They continued, “That’s the Apex experience. Forever.” This was met with replies from folks who claimed things like they “couldn’t be happier” after quitting the game, and that being matchmade against players who were much better than them drove them away. Even the Mixtape mode that’s meant to be more about casual fun than the core BR game type isn’t free of Master or Predator players according to some users. “Yeah same here as you mate. I’m also probably Level 600 (if you include the old Leveling system in) and even Mixtape is full of sweats and you get beamed from every direction possible.” While this is a widespread problem, it’s also hard to solve. Do you go the Fortnite route and add bots? Do you make matchmaking more strict about putting players within their skill bracket at the cost of queue times? There are a number of “solutions”, but all of them have significant drawbacks. It remains to be seen if Apex Legends’ player count is affected in the long-term by players who feel that they’ve hit a wall and that they can’t compete with others they get matched against.

Apex Legends players claim constant lag & server issues are making game “unplayable” – Dexerto
Apex Legends players claim constant lag & server issues are making game “unplayable” Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are growing frustrated with the lag caused by server issues which is making matches “unplayable”. Season 13 of Apex Legends received an overwhelming amount of praise from the community with players enjoying all of the new content that was added. Whether it was the Heroic Defender Newcastle, the brand new POI on Storm Point, or the Ranked Reloaded overhaul, it’s safe to say Respawn knocked it out of the park with Saviors. Despite this, although every major update introduces a range of impressive features, the servers continue to cause significant issues for players. Labeling the game as “unplayable”, a lot of the community is starting to lose their patience with the constant prediction errors and want the devs to find a solution. Apex players call on Respawn to fix server issues Posted to the Apex Legends subreddit on June 1, user MOCbKA showcased the rampant server issues causing the community issues in Season 13. With constant prediction error symbols, players are forced to move around with crippling lag that effectively makes matches “unplayable” as it’s impossible to know where your opponents are moving. According to the comments on the thread, this isn’t a rare occurrence with countless players revealing that they face the same server problems on a regular basis. “Omg, I have been having this at least half my night almost every night… Multiple games with it then multiple without it.” As the problem is server-side, there’s very little a player can do to combat the lag which can be extremely frustrating during a Ranked match. Some Reddit users have encouraged those who regularly experience server issues to reboot their game, which apparently can sometimes alleviate the stuttering. “Happens to me often (not always) when I’m alt-tabbed waiting for game… Fix for this is just alt+f4 quit and relaunch game.” However, when it comes to a long-term fix, the community is going to have to hope Respawn has a solution in the pipeline.

Apex Legends players claim console Ranked is “literally unplayable” due to teaming – Dexerto
Apex Legends players claim console Ranked is “literally unplayable” due to teaming RespawnApex Legends players on console have claimed that Ranked is unplayable during Season 20 thanks to rampant teaming in the higher ranks. As with nearly every season in the past, Apex Legends Season 20 introduced changes to Ranked compared to the previous season. In Season 20, LP has been removed in favor of RP returning. Players also get bigger returns for eliminating higher-tier players and fans will be matched based on their RP value instead of the hidden MMR. However, some console players have claimed that Ranked is “literally unplayable” in Season 20 thanks to rampant teaming plaguing the higher ranks. Apex Legends console players slam Season 20 Ranked A post on the Apex Legends subreddit highlighted the issue after a user by the name of by_Zyno made a post that showcased evidence of teaming. They included a nearly two-minute-long clip showing a spectator in a Ranked match. The clip showed clear evidence of multiple squads teaming in Ranked. After some time, the player reports each squad member after watching their behavior. The OP said, “…So in every lobby on Console you have People blatantly teaming with 6/9/12 Players, are we just pretending that everything is fine and let them continue with this? About 50% of current Console Preds are doing this, Ranked is literally unplayable right now.” While some pointed out the OP was exaggerated with their “50%” estimate, players acknowledged teaming as a serious problem in Ranked. “I, like the OP, and the many other posts with video evidence have encountered many teamers,” claimed one fan. “It is most prevalent in Master/Pred lobbies yet it also occurs in Diamond lobbies since they are the back fill used to fill the top ranked lobbies.” Some players even claimed to see teaming more frequently outside of Ranked as well. “I feel like I’m running into this on regular battle royal, I mostly play duos on console and it’s becoming frequent.” In a primarily skill-based game mode like Ranked, it’s unfortunate whenever players provide evidence of blatant cheating. Hopefully, developer Respawn can crack down on offending players as Season 20 continues.

Apex Legends players claim Bloodhound nerfs will kill the character – Dexerto
Apex Legends players claim Bloodhound nerfs will kill the character Respawn EntertainmentBloodhound’s getting a significant set of nerfs in the Apex Legends Double Take Collection event patch, to the point where many Apex Legends players & pros feel as if the Legend is going to fall out of the meta entirely. Balancing scan characters has always been a difficult task for the devs, with Seer, in particular, getting targeted with nerfs to the point where the Legend got forced out of the meta entirely. However, Bloodhound has always been a meta staple despite having a variety of nerfs sent their way over the years. That may be changing with the Double Take Collection Event patch notes, as Bloodhound will be getting some rework-level changes to the way their abilities function. These changes certainly aren’t buffs. Here’s the full list of the Double Take patch’s nerfs to Bloodhound: Beast of the Hunt: threat vision is no longer visible through smoke or gas – Upgrade: Level 2 Raven’s Blessing: Ult charge reduced to 20% (was 25%) – – Upgrades: Level 3 NEW Sighthound: reduced Tac cooldown by 50% while Ultimate is active – NEW Flock: remove enemy range requirement for White Raven spawns – Both previous Level 3 upgrades have been removed with this change – – Along with Bloodhound’s Beast of the Hunt ult getting nerfed and being much more easily countered by Legends like Caustic and Bangalore, their Level 3 upgrades are much weaker than what they had before. Here are the Level 3 upgrades that are being replaced with this update: Taste of Blood: Gain 25HP on knocks while Beast of the Hunt Beast of the Hunt is active. – Long Hunt: Knocks extend Beast of the Hunt Beast of the Hunt duration. – Both upgrades were built around keeping Bloodhound up and allowing them to shred through teams, meaning that the new Level 3 perks will change their late-game identity in some huge ways. Apex Legends pro ImperialHal simply said “F*ck me I guess” in response to the changes, while others have found some more creative ways to express just how hard these nerfs will hit Bloodhound. As is true of any set of nerfs, there’s a chance Bloodhound won’t be hit nearly as hard as players are expecting by this set of changes. However, Bloodhound will certainly be weaker than they were before.

Apex Legends players claim better SBMM is necessary & that CoD proves it – Dexerto
Apex Legends players claim better SBMM is necessary & that CoD proves it RespawnApex Legends has been facing several issues between rampant cheaters and controversial battle pass changes. Still, many players are convinced that the biggest problem is how difficult the new player experience is and are calling for better SBMM (skill-based matchmaking). While the Battle Pass changes have been rolled back and Apex’s Game Director has addressed cheating problems, many players claim that these issues aren’t why they’ve stepped away from the game. The fact is that Apex Legends’ player count has been dropping, and, though controversy around the game’s monetization and servers is surely part of it, players who are newer or don’t have much time to practice are frustrated. One Apex Legends player pointed out a segment in Call of Duty’s explanation for why SBMM exists, and it’s got longtime Apex players feeling envious of skill-based matchmaking and wanting more noob-friendly features. Apex Legends players demand SBMM and training modes Though Battle Royales are inherently cutthroat with how quickly teams can get wiped off the map, Apex Legends is a cut above. Considering Apex Legends requires strong aim and has complex movement that drastically widens the skill gap, a low-level player beating a seasoned veteran is nigh impossible And, though this massive skill gap is part of Apex Legends’ appeal, it’s also a reason for casual players to step away. The game’s nosediving player count may not be a result of recent controversy, but rather casual players throwing in the towel. The conclusion from CoD developers’ secret SBMM investigation revealed that keeping lower-level players happy is an essential part of game health, and those who are feeling cold on Apex agree. “Been saying this for 5 years… The game’s learning curve is broken. The fact that you cannot study the maps ‘offline’ (or at least outside of live matches) is a huge problem,” one Redditor claimed. The cycle for Apex Legends often boils down to dropping, looting, and immediately losing the first firefight for most players. This makes it incredibly difficult to meaningfully improve and get practice fighting. “This has been my biggest gripe with the game for years. Anyone who is average or below has NOWHERE to play this game. ‘Get better’ is not a solution,” another claimed. They continued, “Some of us enjoy the game but have no way to continue playing without getting matched with the best of the best, which ruins it. This WILL be the downfall Apex and they ignore it.” Several other players claimed that matchmaking has only gotten worse over time, with them getting placed against Masters and Predator players and being unable to compete. “They definitely flipped a switch about a year ago and f*cked the sbmm worse than it was. As a mid tier player me and my buddies went from winning a couple a night and generally losing to players of similar skill to instantly getting clapped the first squad we encounter. It wasn’t gradual for us. They pushed an update and our skill level lobby no longer existed.” At the end of the day, Apex Legends still has hundreds of thousands of active players, and it’s one of the most popular games on Steam. However, the marked decline in peak and average player counts shows that the devs will have to put in some legwork to win back casual players who feel like they can’t compete.

Apex Legends players claim adding health bars “ruined” Season 22 – Dexerto
Apex Legends players claim adding health bars “ruined” Season 22 Respawn EntertainmentThe addition of health bars in Apex Legends Season 22 was controversial since the mechanic was announced, and most players aren’t happy with how they’ve panned out. Adding HP bars was meant to make it clearer just how much health and shields your opponent has left, and it’s done that while also adding clear indicator as to the location of targets you’ve hit. It’s working as intended by the devs. However, Apex Legends players are questioning that intent in and of itself, and have pointed out that the inclusion of this mechanic has drastically nerfed some characters in unexpected ways for Season 22. As one Reddit user pointed out, smokes like what Bangalore and Caustic have are useless once you land that first shot since the health bar gives away their position. Hiding behind cover that obscures vision and not bullets is now pointless if someone already has a shot on you. Additionally, Mirages decoys don’t have health bars, but he does. This means that anyone shooting him as he ults will know which one is the real Mirage, drastically nerfing his entire kit. The same is true of his stealth passive when reviving teammates. Mad Maggie’s passive isn’t nearly as good now, either, as every character now has access to what only she had in the ability to see targets they hit. It’s also impossible to bluff your health bar with a full red shield, as people will see right through you and know you’re low. Some feel as if this has “ruined” the fun of Apex, though there are a number of “bad” players who feel as if they’re able to have more fun with the game now. “As a bad player I like them, but I can definitely see how it removes some skill expression from the game,” one Redditor claimed. Another claimed that the addition of health bars likely exists for the sake of these lower skill players, but that Apex doing a better job of onboarding newer players would be a better fix: “I think the key point is flattening the skill curve is bad for the games health long term. Instead they need ways to help lower players actually improve rather than give them crutches.”

Apex Legends players claim adding health bars in Season 22 is a mistake – Dexerto
Apex Legends players claim adding health bars in Season 22 is a mistake Respawn EntertainmentRespawn is adding health bars to Apex Legends in its massive Season 22 update, and players are unsure if it will bring anything to the table regarding gameplay. The new mechanic, Battle Sense, is coming to all Battle Royale modes and will allow players to see enemy health bars when they are in their line of sight. Players don’t see the value of the addition, and many think it could be a mistake on Respawn’s part to add the mechanic into the game. One player posted on Reddit that the health bar should only be added to casual modes and bot lobbies. “It has no business in ranked. I don’t think this change was at all necessary,” one Reddit user said. Others said adding health bars could remove players’ ability to “intimidate” enemies during a match. In Apex’s current state, players can bluff their low health status by keeping their shields up to make opponents hesitate about engaging in a gunfight. “Right now, I can have low health, but if I keep popping bats and don’t let myself get cracked I can make players with more health back off with a sentinel shot or good beam,” another Reddit user said. “Now they can say I have no health and will be much more likely to rush. Especially going to be a problem with Pathfinder/Rev/Octane.” While many players seemed resistant to the change on social media, others called for patience, as the update is still days away from hitting live servers. “We didn’t even try yet… Let’s try first for a season and form our opinions on experience,” one player said. According to Respawn’s update preview, the new mechanic targets newer and returning players. They may not expect Battle Sense to impact high-level gameplay or veteran players. New mechanical additions like Battle Sense can also be changed or tweaked in the live service title. If the new addition does impact gameplay negatively, like some players believe it will, Respawn can remove it.

Apex Legends players choose perfect weapon for next Care Package loot shakeup – Dexerto
Apex Legends players choose perfect weapon for next Care Package loot shakeup Respawn EntertainmentThe Care Package is an easy way for Respawn Entertainment to make weapon balancing changes to both overpowered and underwhelming weapons, and the Apex community has come up with the perfect next entry for the random drop. Apex’s Care Package is one of the most reliable ways to change up the gameplay experience every season. From the Spitfire to the Mastiff, no gun is safe from spending some time on a little vacation in the sky if a change needs to be made. While Season 13 is only just getting underway, some eager fans have already planted the seeds for one particular weapon to get tucked away. Apex Legends fans come up with the perfect Care Package weapon for next season While it might be a controversial choice, there has been a huge reception to the idea of the Bocek Compound Bow being tossed in the CP for Season 14. This would not only free up the ammo pool with Arrows no longer being a floor drop, but it would also give an already unique weapon the chance to really stand out from the field. In its current state, the Bow often gets passed on for a more versatile long-range option like the Flatline or the R-301. Buffing the weapon up to the coveted Red rarity would be an easy way to make players value it more. One particularly excited fan also suggested that Respawn could make the Bow a more desirable CP weapon by bringing it back to its original state before a big Season 9 nerf dropped its damage down substantially. “Yes, this! I have been saying exactly this for two seasons now. I want the Care Package Bocek in the state it was in on launch.” Another commenter added that in order for this change to make sense, there might need to be another big change to keep the Care Package drops exciting: “As long as the G7 stays in I hope the Bocek stays out. If they did a switch of the two I’d still be mad but less so.” There’s no telling which way Respawn will ultimately go with the next round of Care Package weapons, but it’s clear that the community has a frontrunner in mind.

Apex Legends players want changes for Legendary skins after Fuse Broseidon – Dexerto
Apex Legends players want changes for Legendary skins after Fuse Broseidon Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends community has spotted an inconsistency in Fuse’s Broseidon skin and it’s only further fueling the pre-existing sentiment that Legendary skins need a big change. Apex players are some of the most vocal fans on the internet, so much so that the game earned the number two spot in Twitter’s list of most-talked-about titles in 2021. That means it’s no surprise to know that they’re expressing their feelings about a big problem with the Broseidon skin from the ongoing Dark Depths event. While it might be the most recent entry on the list, this is just one reason that many dedicated fans are ready for improvements. Why Broseidon made Apex Legends players want changes for Legendary skin The big push for change came after players noticed that the Broseidon shark isn’t visible in-game when using Fuse’s cannon. This caused quite the stir with players asking why the only part of the skin that is visible to its user would show up the same as any other Fuse skin. Apex content creator iLootGames shared his frustration with this problem by directly asking a big question: “Why the f**k does the cannon not look like a shark with the new skin? I don’t even get to see my skin in-game and the one part I can see doesn’t look like the skin…” Why the fuck does the cannon not look like a shark with the new skin? I don’t even get to see my skin in game and the one part I can see doesn’t look like the skin… pic.twitter.com/sQM1aTE9UR — iLootGames (@iLootGames) January 11, 2022 Broseidon is just one of several Legendaries that have fallen under the microscope for this same issue. Another player asked why Wattson’s skins behave the same way, citing the $20 price point as reason enough that the skins should be reflected for the player wearing it. “I’ve probably spent $300 on these skins and I’ve only ever seen them in the loading screens between games. How does that make any sense?” As one user pointed out in the comments, the answer likely lies deeper in the structure of the game, as the model other people see of other Legends isn’t the same one that is actually being used to track a player’s hitbox and physical location. Whether or not Respawn makes any adjustments to the look of these top-shelf cosmetics remains to be seen, but it’s clear that the player base feels like they’re currently overpaying for them in their current form.

Apex Legends players change mains after fan determines the quietest Legend – Dexerto
Apex Legends players change mains after fan determines the quietest Legend Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players were stunned after one fan went above and beyond to test who the quietest overall Legend in the game was. There are plenty of small gameplay elements in Apex Legends that can help players come out on top over the course of a Battle Royale match. One of those elements that players often take for granted is the audio for enemy footsteps, as it can be an invaluable tool that can help teams get the jump on unsuspecting players or prevent squads from being taken out by surprise themselves. Now, one player has completed a series of extensive tests to determine which Legends have the quietest and loudest footsteps and the results may just come as a surprise. Apex Legend player tests footstep audio for every character A post on the Apex Legends subreddit titled, “I measured the volume of each Legend’s footsteps” piqued the communities interest, as footstep audio has long been a contentious topic around the Battle Royale. Reddit user Pescodar189 tested each Legend available in the game at the time of writing to see how loud their individual footstep audio is in decibels. According to their preliminary research, Ash actually has the quietest footstep audio in the game, with Seer coming in at a close 2nd place. To test each Legends’ footstep audio, they had one player act as ‘The Runner’ and another act as ‘The Observer.’ The Observer would stand a set distance away from The Runner, who would run in a straight line past them on one surface, being the dirt in the Fire Range in this instance. They then recorded the footstep audio and measured the dBFS and noted the peak dBFS for each Legend in a table. After they posted their findings for the community they received a great deal of feedback and decided to refine the test even further. After measuring footstep audio at different distances, quality tests, different surfaces, and even different timescales of RMS volume, they posted their final results. Again, Ash came out on top as the quietest overall Legend, with Seer being quiet as well with some inconsistencies in volume. Additionally, Legends like Gibraltar and Octane were among the noisiest Legends while Revenant and Horizon were also fairly quiet—but not as much as Ash and Seer. Players were stunned at the dedication shown through the tests, with many joking that they would switch to Ashe as their main Legend from here on. “Ok people. Our man find the solution! Time to become a Ash main.” Another player said, “A whole a** journal article on legend footsteps? love to see it, nice work man!” These tests were also able to determine other little-known elements about, such as the amount of noise Revenant makes when he crouch walks, and how much audio fall off there is at farther distances.

Apex Legends players catch surprising link between Fuse and Titanfall – Dexerto
Apex Legends players catch surprising link between Fuse and Titanfall Respawn EntertainmentAn odd link between Titanfall and Apex Legends’ new Season 8 character, Fuse, has been discovered, adding to various layers of callbacks to the mainline series that Respawn loves to include. [jwplayer vP8vm9zZ] With the two set in the same universe, there’s going to be plenty of links between overarching Titanfall lore across Apex Legends. Respawn enjoys indulging in such easter eggs, and the Apex community just loves to discover them. The craze was reignited after the launch of the Season 8: Mayhem patch that brought a mess of updates along with the Australian ‘Bombastic Explosives Expert,’ who’s been making a huge impact on the battle royale. But ever-watchful Apex players who still have an ear for their fan-favorite TitanFall series noticed that Fuse has a special nod to the classic franchise of Respawn’s past. In a post that’s quickly garnering hundreds of upvotes, user ‘hugwalk’ noticed that Fuse’s tactical ability, the Knuckle Cluster, has a different sound queue for when its cooldown timer has expired. They played back the sound queues for other Legends’ with them all sounding the same, except for Fuse. At the end of the clip, the user included the sound of tactical in Titanfall and, lo and behold, the two share the same kind of rhythm that was confusing some people with how similar they are. Read more: How to play Fuse in Apex Legends – “So that’s why I like playing him. It’s messing with my subconscious,” one person said, with others sharing the same sentiment to the new character. As far as the story goes, Apex has had a bunch of callbacks to the original but this takes implementation to a strange new level. It doesn’t have very much impact at all on the game, which is why some people thought it was a cool decision by Respawn Read more: How to master 30-30 Repeater in Apex Legends – While there are those that believe this was a simple mixup by the devs, others seem to be appreciating the supposed callback in the new season. Respawn have been known to go to great lengths to have a bit of fun with their audience, so we wouldn’t put it past them to find a simple, yet effective, way to mess with their Apex Legends player-base.

Apex Legends players can’t get enough of bizarre knock off action figures – Dexerto
Apex Legends players can’t get enough of bizarre knock off action figures A series of very bizarre Apex Legends figures have emerged, and Apex players can’t get enough of these poorly made knockoffs that vaguely resemble iconic characters from the game. Apex Legends features a wide cast of visually distinct characters with a variety of personalities. Collectible figures for many of these characters already exist, but some very cheap-looking knockoffs have been popping up on the internet. Reddit user garrett53 posted a lone image of this incredibly warped and distorted figure of Gibraltar that they claim to have found for just one dollar. It’s hard to say who’s making these figures, but the boxes themselves are plastered with art ripped straight from Apex Legends’ promotional material and in-game illustrations. While the figures look vaguely similar to their in-game counterparts, there are some clear differences here. “Legend” is a strong word These characters are barely recognizable, with fine details and facial features being smoothed over. The tribal designs on Gibraltar’s armor are warped and layered on top of each other. A video from reddit user Karmanized gives us a look at a Bangalore figure, along with the box it came in and a weapon that came packaged with it. The weapon looks somewhat similar to the G7 Scout, a weapon Bangalore is often depicted holding in game. Meanwhile, Bangalore herself has a similar level of detail to the Gibraltar with simply painted armor and a lack of facial detail. These two figures appear to have similar packaging as well, but it’s hard to be sure. The bottom of the Bangalore figure reads, “Who are the characters?”, a question the original poster of the video doesn’t seem too sure the figure’s manufacturers could answer. With Apex Legends Season 14 on the horizon, hype for the game and its iconic set of characters is at an all-time high. Fans of the game are bound to be on the lookout for figures of their favorite legends. Just watch out for these knockoff figures.

Apex Legends players can’t believe next-gen update doesn’t include 120 FPS boost – Dexerto
Apex Legends players can’t believe next-gen update doesn’t include 120 FPS boost Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are furious after the long-awaited next-gen update for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles neglected to bring 120 FPS gameplay on arrival. Apex players have waited well over a year now for the next-gen update to arrive in Respawn Entertainment’s hit battle royale title, bringing the game forward with the new consoles. It was widely anticipated that the next-gen update would bring huge change to the game and, most importantly to many Apex players, the introduction of 120hz gameplay, moving up to 120 FPS rather than the 60 FPS limit on previous-gen consoles. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, and players are airing their grievances far and wide online. Apex Legends Next-Gen update is today! But, it does not include 120Hz for PS5 + Xbox Series X/S yet – this is coming in a future update. Support for adaptive triggers and haptics is also coming for PS5 players in the future. pic.twitter.com/kwghMfwEao — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) March 29, 2022 While the update did bring a number of improvements to the game, including 4K output, HDR, and greater LOD distances, there were some highly-anticipated features that aren’t available from day one. In future updates, PS5/Xbox Series consoles will get both audio and visual improvements, as well as 120hz gameplay — but that’s not soon enough for many players who have grown impatient. “We waited months for a next-gen version that apparently isn’t even going to have graphical improvements according to the patch notes, no 120hz gameplay, or any of the cool stuff associated with PS5?” said one dejected player.” Why did we have to wait so long then?” So arguably nothing changes? We waited months for a next gen version that apparently isn’t even going to have graphically improvements according to the patch notes, no 120hz gameplay, or any of the cool stuff associated with ps5?Why did we have to wait so long then?4k isnt enough — F0x (@F0x_01825) March 29, 2022 Another player questioned Respawn’s decision to “prioritize 4K over 120 FPS,” using the Will Smith/Chris Rock meme to display their frustration. Prioritising 4k over 120hz in a FPS?! pic.twitter.com/l6k92dsEox — Renegade (@T_Uncensor) March 29, 2022 It’s not clear how long it will take for 120 FPS to arrive on the latest-gen consoles in Apex Legends, with no date given yet at the time of writing, but it’s something both Respawn and the playerbase would like to see sooner rather than later.

Apex Legends players call the Kraber”useless” after Season 14 nerf – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call the Kraber”useless” after Season 14 nerf Respawn EntertainmentWith the Kraber nerfed in Apex Legends Season 14, some players think the latest change has made the gun “useless” as a care package weapon. Apex Legends’ Season 14 patch introduced plenty of buffs and nerfs for both Legends and weapons. One of the more controversial changes came through a nerf to the Kraber .50 Cal Care Package-exclusive sniper rifle. Now, some Apex Legends players are debating whether the nerf has made the Kraber “useless” or if it was a necessary change. Apex Legends players debate Season 14 Kraber nerf The discussion spawned from a post on the Apex Legends subreddit, where user GhostxFilter made a post titled which called the Kraber nerf a “mistake.” They argued that before the Season 14 nerf, the Kraber was balanced thanks to its low spawn rate, slower bullet drop and speed, and the skill required to perform well with the weapon. They go on to call Season 14’s Kraber “useless” owing to its overall lower damage output. For those who may not know, the Kraber’s overall damage was reduced from 145 to 140, while the headshot multiplier was changed from 3x to 2x. This makes it impossible for players to instantly down opponents with a Kraber headshot at full health. While plenty of players agreed with GhostxFilter’s initial post, many others pushed back on calling the Kraber “useless” now. “…It still does 140 which is more than enough to break shields instantly and do a decent bit of flesh damage. Also, getting one tapped by a Kraber doesn’t mean the user is skilled in any way, in fact, it’s the complete opposite,” said Endar_Spire. Others also took issue with the fact that the Kraber was the only weapon in Apex Legends that provided a one-shot kill. “In my opinion, it is a well-balanced care package weapon now. No other weapon will give you a one-shot kill, and neither should the Kraber,” said spooch001. Though both sides of the discussion make valid arguments, for now, it doesn’t seem as though Respawn has any intention of boosting the Kraber’s damage back to where it was before Season 14.

Apex Legends players call out “ridiculous” costs of new Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth skins – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call out “ridiculous” costs of new Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth skins Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling out the supposedly “ridiculous” costs of the new Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth event skins, asking players to spend upwards of $300 to collect them all. Announced back at the 2023 Game Awards, the unexpected crossover between Apex Legends and Final Fantasy is finally arriving in the game on January 9. With 36 cosmetic items being added in the popular BR, with various weapons and Legends skins chief among them, there’s a lot for players to look forward to. However, the crossover brought something new. Many of the items are only available through event packs, and players are calling out Respawn as a result. In order to get all of the event skins, you’ll allegedly need to spend upwards of $300. Unlike previous collection events in which if you wanted to get the collection Heirloom, you’d need to buy all the event items, which would require players to spend around $160, things are a bit different this time around. This time the Heirloom, the Buster Sword R2R5, can be obtained through the Event packs, but with a very small chance of being able to unbox it, with only a 1% chance. Players on the Apex subreddit have seemingly done the math, and they have found that the odds of actually pulling the Buster Sword appear to be extremely low. If a player were to purchase 30 packs, their chance of getting the Mythic is 3.4%, according to the study. So if you want a near guarantee you’ll get the Heirloom, you’ll need to spend upwards of $300 to get the Mythic, and players aren’t happy with the cost to get it. “If you love Apex Legends, you have to know that supporting these ridiculous practices will not fix any of the real issues that plague this game, and instead we’ll just keep getting more overpriced events,” YouTuber Macro said of the crossover skin’s cost. And many other players on the Apex subreddit also called out the high price, encouraging others not to purchase the Event Packs.

Apex Legends players call out Respawn for “tragic” state of the game – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call out Respawn for “tragic” state of the game Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends pros and high-level players have been very vocal about their grievances with Apex Legends in its current state as of late, and now the general player base is starting to get fed up with the “exhausting” experience of playing. The breakout success of Apex Legends, when it was initially released, was matched by Respawn’s continuous support, resulting in the game maintaining hundreds of thousands of players at any given time. However, though many players are still logging in every day to play, not all of them are satisfied with the game’s current state. Pros have been putting Respawn on blast recently with complaints about things like the strength of the Charge Rifle, cheaters in their games, and server issues making it difficult to play properly. NICKMERCS recently ended his stream earlier than expected as a result of getting his games repeatedly sniped by cheaters, putting the issue in front of his audience of thousands. These issues certainly aren’t confined to high-level play, though, and the general player base is mirroring the sentiment of pro players. Apex Legends players are calling the experience of queuing “tragic” and “exhausting,” especially if you don’t have friends to play with. Apex Legends players fed up with “exhausting” matches Most popular multiplayer games have their fair share of cheaters or server issues here and there. It’s something that plagues any popular online multiplayer game at some point, and players tend to have a certain level of forgiveness when it comes to things not working properly for a short period of time. However, Apex Legends players are beginning to get fed up with the game’s current state. Issues that were discussed by pros and high-level players that played for several hours a day are starting to affect the more general player base, especially considering that matchmaking will sometimes put average players against pros. In a lengthy post made by a Reddit user who called the game’s current state “beyond tragic”, Apex Legends players came together to air their grievances. The main points raised by the original poster are that ranked matchmaking is “extremely bad” and consistently puts them against trios, that servers are dropping them from matches and giving them leaver penalties, and that cheaters show up consistently. Players in the thread also called out bots that sit in the mixtape modes, making it so that the for-fun ways to play Apex Legends outside of the normal battle royale mode aren’t fun for them, either. While Apex Legends still has a massive player base, it’s clear that players across many different skill levels aren’t enjoying the new season as much as they liked the game in the past.

Apex Legends players call out “nightmare” solo queue experience in Season 20 – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call out “nightmare” solo queue experience in Season 20 Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans have taken to social media to vent the “nightmare” solo queue experience some players have gone through in Ranked during Season 20. In the past few seasons of Apex Legends, developer Respawn Entertainment has made tweaks and changes to the way Ranked works. While many players have called Ranked in Season 20 one of the best seasons in recent memory, it seems not every player feels the same way. Now, some players in the higher ranks have taken to social media to vent their frustration about the solo queue experience in Ranked during Season 20, and why matchmaking needs to be fixed. Apex Legends solo queue players frustrated with Ranked mode A post on the Apex Legends subreddit sparked a discussion among fans after one user named trachion made a thread titled, “Solo Queue Ranked is practically impossible.” The OP made it clear at the beginning of their post that this was not aimed at ” the challenges of having bad teamwork, or the disadvantage of being randoms vs 3 stack,” but instead at solo queue matchmaking. “…What has been happening almost every game, is getting teammates that are in Plat, sometimes as low as Plat IV, and being paired up against 3 stacks of pros,” the player claimed. They go on to explain that the mode feels ” frustrating for literally everybody.” Many in the comments vented their own frustration with solo queuing in Season 20. “Same experience except I’m your teammate,” said one player. “Trust me I hate it just as much as you do. I hate feeling like I’m being put in your backpack, but I’m just not good enough mechanically to keep up. Plat is the new Diamond.” Alternately, many fans felt that Masters and Predator rank players should simply have longer queue times to get matched with players who are actually in their ranks. “Expand queue times for Masters and Preds but let them f*ck around in the Range while they wait or something… I get complaining when your livelihood is streaming and you have 20+ minute queue times, it’s understandable, but then fix how the queue dead time works,” argued one player. While players have certainly come to appreciate some of the more recent Ranked system changes, it seems rank placement is still a hot topic among many Apex Legends fans.

Apex Legends players call out devs for ‘impossible’ weapon challenges – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call out devs for ‘impossible’ weapon challenges Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have discovered that there are some weapon challenges that have been rendered impossible to complete due to the current map rotation. Respawn introduced the new Weapon Mastery System last season. Since then, players have been hard at work to master their favorite weapons. Weapon Mastery wasn’t just your regular XP grind, either. Players have to complete certain challenges in order to continue the XP grind and reach greater heights with their gun of choice. On August 8, the new season, Apex Legends: Resurrection, launched, bringing a reworked Revenant and some much needed-gun balance changes. But Apex Legends Season 18 has also rotated out two maps, the only two maps that have Prowlers on them. This has left players unable to complete certain challenges. Apex Legends players find weapon challenges are “not possible” Those who are able to fully master their weapon and complete the challenges that stand in their way are rewarded with bragging rights and some in-game goodies for their time. It’s a long grind, but, for some, it’s worth it. However, one player noticed that they couldn’t progress the Weapon Challenges set before them for the Prowler because they couldn’t access a map where Prowlers (the in-game creatures, not the gun itself) were able to spawn. Newer players were unhappy when trying to level up the Prowler as a result of all the more difficult challenges being locked behind the theoretically simple yet currently impossible task of killing 5 Prowlers. The original poster was frustrated, calling the whole situation “kinda ridiculous.” Other players agreed. They pointed out that not only is the map that containing Prowlers not in rotation, but the Prowler is now also a rare care package weapon – returning to its full-auto form. Players who have already completed the level 20 challenge sympathised with those who were stuck with the impossible task. One player said “Yeah, I busted my ass to get those done last season. It’s especially difficult because you have to find the prowler first which can be a b**ch on worlds edge.” The introduction of Season 18 also reworked a stale and unpopular Revenant, bringing the character into the competitve spotlight. Twitch streamer and multi-time tournament champion TSM ImperialHal thinks Revenant could make a surprise appearance in teams competitive line-up.

Apex Legends players call on Respawn to nerf Gibraltar amid “boring” meta – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call on Respawn to nerf Gibraltar amid “boring” meta Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling on the battle royale’s developers at Respawn Entertainment to nerf Gibraltar, with the gentle giant sitting at 100% pick rate in the most recent rounds of the North American ALGS. One of the game’s base legends, Gibraltar has been perpetually popular in Respawn’s battle royale. His all-around abilities and defensive playstyle have made him a go-to for many players wanting a reliable legend in most scenarios. Nerfs in recent seasons have seen him drop in viability and popularity slightly, currently sitting twelfth with a pick rate of 3.3% in all Apex matches. However, it’s at high-level Apex where the gentle giant really thrives, with his recent pick rate in the Apex Legends Global Series sitting at 100%, meaning he is picked in every match. That, for some players, represents the need for a change. One Redditor pointed this out in a frustrated post on April 2, commenting: “Gibraltar literally has a 100% pick rate at the highest level of play. Can he just please get a nerf already?” Attached was an image breaking down which legends have been picked at the NA’s ALGS Split 1, with Gibby well out in front on 100%, picked 140/140 times. In second place – but some way behind Gibby – was Loba, whose pick rate sits at just over 29.3%. It does suggest that, among pros at least, picking Gibby is a no-brainer and he is essential in every match. While that’s not the case in matches at lower levels, it still led to many players echoing the OP’s sentiment and calling for a nerf or rework. One said: “More like a rework, literally the most boring character to play, and nerfing him will just make him unplayable depending on how they nerf him.” Another suggested a nerf, commenting: “Just give his shield a health pool, adjust HP as you see fit.” Naturally, Respawn will have the final call on any Gibby changes but, with him being played 100% of the time in the NA ALGS, there does look to be a case for tweaking some his abilities.

Apex Legends players demand new support characters after Maggie reveal – Dexerto
Apex Legends players demand new support characters after Maggie reveal Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling on Respawn to further diversify the game’s character pool by adding more “support” legends, after the confirmation of Maggie for Season 12 revealed another assault character. As is the case with the release of any new season in Apex Legends, considerable excitement has surrounded Season 12. Fans have expected Maggie – the friend of Fuse who was initially introduced in Season 8 – to be the game’s newest legend, a fact which was confirmed with the Defiance reveal on January 26. While there have been some complaints about the size of her arms, players are generally very excited to drop into Storm Point as Maggie and see what she can do. However, some player frustrations surfaced following Season 12’s reveal, with players pointing out that Maggie will be another ‘assault legend’. Redditor toasterlunch called out Respawn to this effect, commenting: “As hyped as I am for Season 12, I’m really disappointed that Maggie is just another assault legend with a damage dealing Tactical. Especially since we only have 2 supports and in Season 13 Loba will [have been] out for 2 years.” Attached to their comments was a graphic showing Loba and Lifeline as the game’s only support legends, compared to nine different legends they classed as assault. Maggie’s Tactical looks to be some sort of flame-throwing projectile launcher, as opposed to a gadget designed to support other legends (like Lifeline’s DOC). Plenty of other players on the game’s subreddit agreed, with the post sitting at upwards of 5,000 upvotes at the time of writing. Some argued that defence legends (those not included in the graphic) may as well be support legends, but others pointed out that legends strictly designed to aid their teammates do number very few. Respawn are well known for taking community feedback into account, but changing the abilities of future legends may mess up their plans for the battle royale. Only time will tell what abilities future characters bring to the party.

Apex Legends players call for Wraith to be removed until “ridiculous” hit reg bug fixed – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for Wraith to be removed until “ridiculous” hit reg bug fixed Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling on Respawn to disable Wraith in Ranked until the “ridiculous” hit reg glitch is fixed. Season 13 of Apex Legends added a variety of new content and fixed countless bugs affecting players’ gameplay experience, but the update did arrive with a few hiccups. Unfortunately, one of these issues revolves around hit-reg with bullets seemingly traveling through Legends and dealing no damage. While this problem isn’t limited to a single character, Wraith is definitely causing most of the frustration with the Interdimensional Skirmisher regularly sponging a whole mag in bullets. Now, over six weeks since Saviors went live with no fix, players are demanding that Wraith is disabled from Ranked until the issue is resolved. Apex Legends players want Wraith disabled from Ranked Apex Legends players have taken to the game’s subreddit to call on the devs to disable Wraith until a fix for the “ridiculous” hit-reg glitch has been found. Comparing Apex to Valorant, user bellonj claims Riot Games remove an Agent from Ranked if they’re experiencing major issues with their kit and that Respawn should take note and do the same with Wraith. Despite her huge popularity and iconic status on the roster, a lot of players believe she’s compromising the competitive integrity of Ranked by consistently creating unfair gunfights. With countless clips appearing of Wraith players soaking up huge amounts of damage, it’s clear the community has lost patience with the devs and wants a temporary fix. While disabling Wraith is certainly an option for Respawn, it would cause a lot of frustration for players that main the Interdimensional Skirmisher. Not only that, but with how long it’s taking to patch at the moment, it’s hard to know when the Interdimensional Skirmisher would be re-introduced back into the game. For now, we’ll just have to wait for an official response from the devs but as time passes, the community is growing more and more impatient.

Apex Legends players call for weapon changes as R301 and CAR SMG dominate – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for weapon changes as R301 and CAR SMG dominate Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling on developers Respawn to adjust the game’s weapon pool and meta, claiming that it is still dominated by long-time fan favorites such as the R301 and C.A.R. SMG. Apex Legends’ weapon pool has been one aspect of the game that has made it so captivating; ensuring that early-game looting is key to a player’s prospects in the end-game moments. Naturally, some weapons rise to the top in terms of viability and popularity while others, like the Mozambique Shotgun, seem to be perpetually swirling around the proverbial plughole. However, with old favorites ruling the meta again in the ongoing Season 12, Apex Legends players are calling on Respawn to make significant changes to the weapon pool in order to ensure the game does not get stale. Redditor ‘Ac0w161’ made the point in an April 30 post, explaining that they and a friend have been keeping track of weapons used against them in matches. In every game situation (early, mid or late), the most-used weapon by some margin is the R301, followed by the C.A.R. SMG. While the C.A.R. SMG was only introduced to the BR in Season 11, the R301 has been one of the most dominant weapons in Apex since it launched way back in early 2019. Its solid handling, damage, recoil, and range make it an all-round juggernaut. However, many responded to the post by calling for nerfs, saying other valid weapons that could outperform the R301 are no longer comparable. One player said: “This is the consequence of removing the only other two viable weapons that can be used off the ground… Flatline went to the replicator and received a minor nerf while the Volt went to the CP. That only leaves the R301 as the single viable gun off the ground that can be used up to late game.” Another commented: “Anything else worth a damn has been put in the care package/the rep station or nerfed.” As the Redditors suggested, Respawn have managed weapon balancing in unique ways. Some weapons get straight-up weakened while others are made more difficult to obtain. Whether they seek to target the R301 in Season 13 remains to be seen, but its popularity and the responses of players suggest it would be a justified change.

Apex Legends players call for Vantage nerf following leaked bullet size image – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for Vantage nerf following leaked bullet size image Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players call for Vantage’s Ultimate ability to be nerfed following a leak that shows how large her sniper bullets are. Apex Legends’ Season 14 character Vantage has proven to be an interesting Legend over the course of her introductory Season thanks to her excellent mobility, recon, and long-range damage. However, some fans think that Vantage may be a bit too powerful, especially in regards to her Ultimate ability’s sniper rifle. Now, leaked images approximating just how large Vantage’s sniper bullets are have led to some fans calling for Respawn to nerf the Recon Legend in Season 15. Apex Legends players call for Vantage nerf Prominent Apex Legends leaker SomeoneWhoLeaks tweeted out an image showing an approximation of the bullet size of Vantage’s Ultimate ability. The image represents the size that Vantage’s sniper bullet increases over the distance it’s traveled versus the size of bullets from the other sniper rifles in the game. “This is roughly Vantage’s ult bullet size (10.0) V.S any other sniper bullet (2.0) in the game. Bullet size is based on meters traveled (0 min-300 max). We’ve known that the max distance bullet was 5x bigger than other snipers, but seeing it is wild.” While SWL claimed that while the image is “not 100% accurate” it is close to reality and that “reducing the bullet size to be in line with all other snipers is necessary.” Though many wondered if a nerf was really necessary considering her Ultimate ability is supposed to be powerful, others offered perspective on why it may be a bit too powerful. “If it’s the same size of the other snipers then what’s the point of it being an ult?” asked Twitter user trippyminded_, to which another user replied, “Is having a 3rd gun, a sniper with a scope for free – that also tags and gives a damage boost, not an ultimate enough?” Is having a 3rd gun, a sniper with a scope for free – that also tags and gives a damage boost, not an ultimate enough? — Chris | human NPC (@blooworld) October 25, 2022 Alternatively, others wondered if maybe the bullet damage should be reduced for consecutive shots. ASavageBeaverYT said,”…It needs to be dropped and maybe do 50-75-100.” Not just that but the first hit is 50 and then 100 and 100 on console with aim assists that’s easy asf to hit 3 consistent shots on a rotating team it needs to be dropped and maybe do 50-75-100 cause if your still out on that third shot your an idiot and deserve to go down — ASPOOPYBEAVER (@ASavageBeaverYT) October 24, 2022 This isn’t the first time players have called for Vantage’s bullet size to be reigned in, as pro players like Mande have also found issues with her Ultimate ability. Of course, whether or not Vangtage’s Ultimate will be nerfed or not remains to be seen as Apex Legends Season 15 is set to launch on November 1.

Apex Legends players call for Valorant-style Anti-Cheat to crackdown on hackers – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for Valorant-style Anti-Cheat to crackdown on hackers Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends certainly has its fair share of cheaters, but a Valorant-inspired anti-cheat feature could greatly reduce their numbers. Following on from the recent “Save Titanfall” DDoS attacks, many Apex Legends players have rightfully been thinking about the current hacking problem in the game. Like every competitive FPS shooter, Apex Legends has players who utilize various hacks to get an advantage. Whether it’s utilizing aimbots, wallhacks, or various gun exploits – it seems that cheaters always find a way to beat the system. Not only do these players ruin games for everyone involved, but they also waste the time of every squad looking to get that all-important win. However, a Valorant-style anti-cheat feature could help curb the onslaught of hackers for good. Apex Legends and Valorant-style anti-cheat While Apex Legends’ hacking problem may not be as rampant as other battle royale titles, plenty of players still ruin the fun. From hacks that make the Charge Rifle a laserbeam to top Apex Legends players using aimbot software, there has certainly been an influx of cheaters in recent months. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell whether you’re queued up with or against hackers until you face them on the battlefield. Even if you do manage to catch a cheater in action, the only thing you can do is report them. This obviously doesn’t instantly stop the problematic player from terrorizing the entire lobby. However, one Apex Legends fan found that this issue could be avoided entirely if Respawn were to implement a Valorant-style anti-cheat system. Riot’s competitive arena-based shooter actively shuts down games when a cheater has been detected. Not only does this player get instantly punished, everyone who was present in that lobby avoids taking a hit to their ranked rating and win/loss ratio. This approach is certainly a lot more invasive than Respwan’s current anti-cheat, but it’s only because of such programs that Valorant can effectively eliminate unwanted players from its title. Whether Respawn will ever take inspiration from other competitive FPS titles like Valorant remains to be seen, but we do know that the developers will busy coming up with new ways to stop hackers in the future.

Apex Legends players call for update to “pointless” Ranked splits – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for update to “pointless” Ranked splits RespawnApex Legends previously used Ranked splits to freshen things up, but recent changes have left them calling for big changes to the old feature. Ranked splits were formerly a great way for Apex Legends to shake up the competition, bringing a new map into the fray and giving players a reason to restart their RP grind all over again. Now that the maps rotate regularly throughout the week though, there’s been a push to make a change to a system that some fans believe has quickly grown outdated. Apex Legends fans are ready for Ranked split changes The conversation was started by Apex player UnfluffyBunnyTV on Reddit, and their proposal was a simple one. Now that map rotation is gone, other aspects of the game should be refreshed instead. “They should use the splits to make minor weapon damage adjustments and attachment adjustments and also balance small number changes to characters. Nothing drastic but make it to where the split has value,” they explained. “Then when the New Season starts, use that as the time to make large adjustments such as care package rotations introduction of new weapons and characters as well as other balance changes. It will keep the seasons from feeling stale and give large amounts of new content to players even in small forms.” Others chimed in critiquing the Rank reset that accompanies each split, with one person saying it leaves no time for a proper window to climb. “I haven’t finished a single season since the introduced split. I’ll push to plat, and then the split happens, I see that I’m back in gold and have to go through that shit again. I just play something else.” Respawn hasn’t mentioned any potential changes, and the reset is useful for those who rely on Apex for content, so it remains to be seen if any adjustments or reworks end up rolling down the pipeline.

Apex Legends players call for Strike Pack crackdown ahead of Season 11 update – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for Strike Pack crackdown ahead of Season 11 update Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling on Respawn to take a more punishing stance towards Strike Packs in Season 11 and begin banning more cheaters who use the hardware. Apex Legends Season 11 is set to release on November 2 and with so many new additions on the horizon, it’s safe to say the community is extremely excited. Despite this, not every player wants Respawn to focus on adding new content, instead, they’d prefer if the overall gameplay experience was improved. Whether that’s banning more hackers at high ranks, fixing server issues, or patching out frustrating bugs, there were even calls from the community to make Season 11 a “health” update that skipped any new content. While this idea was shut down by the devs, players are now wondering what Respawn plans to do about Strike Pack users in Escape, and have called for them to take a harsher stance on cheaters that use the hardware. Apex Legends players want more Strike Pack users banned As Strike Packs are external devices that are connected to controllers to reduce recoil and increase fire rate, they do not fall under the category of hacks or cheats. While using the hardware can get you banned, it’s hard for Respawn to automatically detect, so a lot of users go under the radar. Over the past few seasons, frustration within the player base has been building when it comes to Strike Packs, and the community is now calling out for the devs to take a harsher stance. Although Respawn did announce back in August that pros were no longer allowed to use the devices, very little has been done to stop players from using them in casual matches, as showcased by trent1055 on the Apex Legends subreddit. While Strike Packs have always been a grey area in Apex, a lot of players in the thread are desperate for Respawn to class the hardware as cheating: “It should be classed as hacking, cheating ruins the game for everyone, how am I supposed to have fun when this guy can do this from across the map?”. Others even claim that the current console Predator ladder would be wiped out if there was Strike Pack purge: “Imagine how many pred console players would be gone after the strike pack/cronus purge”. However, with blatant hackers ruining matches at high ranks, it’s likely Respawn will prioritize fixing that before moving onto Strike Packs. For now, it’s just a case of waiting for Season 11 to drop and seeing if the devs make an announcement on their plans for Strike Pack users in the future.

Apex Legends players call for split removal in Season 15 ranked – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for split removal in Season 15 ranked Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends’ intricate Ranked system sets it apart from other battle royale titles, but some players disapprove splits. Apex Legends Season 15 is almost here, introducing a new map, zip rail system, and new legend. The battle royale’s upcoming season also marks the beginning of a new Ranked mode split. Seasons are divided into two ranked splits, and there is a soft reset between the two periods. Players earn rewards based on the highest tier achieved in either split. Apex features seven different divisions to grind through. Splits act as a way to incentivize players to constantly login in and play. However, some players believe casual players don’t have the time to grind, resulting in unfair matchmaking. Should Apex Legends remove splits? Reddit user BananasBandana argued, “the splits are driving Ranked mode straight into the trash bin. I think the only people who benefit from it are upper ranks 1% players, which is just not the main player base.” They suggested Apex bring back the old system of having a three-month Ranked season instead of doing a soft reset at the halfway mark. One player responded, “the split only makes level players flood low-skilled lobbies. It essentially is forced surfing. People would eventually be in the proper lobbies if ranked didn’t reset.” For example, Season 14 first split ran from August 9 to September 27. Some players believe the placing system would be more accurate if players had more time to earn a rank properly. A second user added, “Ranked splits made sense when you couldn’t decay mid-season, but now it feels like they need to be at least changed.” Another player chimed in, “If I had three months to reach diamond instead of one and a half months of pure grinding, I would play more ranked too.” The Reddit post received over 1,000 upvotes and around 200 comments from players sharing similar negative experiences.

Apex Legends players call for simple UI update to eliminate death ping spamming – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for simple UI update to eliminate death ping spamming Respawn EntertainmentTired of getting ping spammed in Apex Legends every time your teammate goes down in Ranked? One small change might solve that problem – or at least make it a less common occurrence. The world of solo queuing is a tough one in Apex Legends. Between teammates who don’t communicate, varying types of play styles and Legend combinations, and a general lack of coordination, it can be a grueling experience to set out into a game on your own. This is never more true than when you’re in a fight and your downed Octane player is pinging as fast as their hands will let them. While these pings can vary in meaning, ranging from I cracked their shields – why aren’t you here to follow me up? all the way to I didn’t hit them a single time, please save me there is too much ambiguity to rely on this strategy all the time. Apex Legends already has one of the most robust information exchange systems in the world of gaming, but this idea from Reddit is another chance for Respawn to elevate the system. Let’s take a look at the change and how it could affect the game. Apex Legends UI Update Concept This idea would fit in perfectly with the current view of a downed player’s status. As it stands, the only information we currently see for a downed player is the bar that represents how much time they have before their death. That information already changes to the green revival meter when a player is being revived, so it would make sense to see a change for when a player is being finished off by an opposing team. By implementing a change like this, Respawn would only be making it easier for the player base to understand what’s happening during a fight. There is one potential drawback though. The advantage of vision-obscuring abilities like Bangalore smokes is largely based on getting the jump on an opposing team. If a squad sees their teammate’s bar change from red to yellow, this would be a pretty good indication of what your team was trying to accomplish. This is only a problem for solo-queue or people who don’t have a mic though, as any team with voice comms would call out that they were being finished anyway. This sort of change may never make its way into the game, but the community at large has been suggesting spectacular improvements for the game recently. Even Nickmercs has joined in to praise the game and suggest some tweaks. No game can ever be perfect, but Respawn has made a strong case for Apex Legends’ status as the battle royale title on the market.

Apex Legends players call for simple fix to annoying gold shield swaps – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for simple fix to annoying gold shield swaps Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends firefights can get pretty hectic at times and those with quick reactions often have a huge edge, but this isn’t the case when it comes to switching to gold shields. Apex Legends players often switch shields in combat, particularly when the enemy damage begins to ramp up. In fact, switching from a broken shield to a shiny new one can often be the deciding factor in a close fight. Not only does it give you the chance to stave off more damage, but it can also force your enemy to expend further resources. While searching an enemy death box or finding a replacement shield on the ground can be fairly quick, the process to equip gold armor can take a long time. This is especially true when you’re going from the game’s red shields down to gold. It’s because of this sluggish performance, that players are now calling for Respawn to fix this issue. Apex Legends Gold shield swap frustrations Posting to the official Apex Legends Reddit page, enrique960417 pointed out just how frustrating this scenario can be. In the clip, the player can be seen getting into a firefight with an enemy team. After narrowly avoiding death and eliminating two enemy players, enrique960417 tries to loot a shield from one of the death boxes. This is a pretty common tactic and it’s certainly not out of the ordinary. After scrolling through the Death Box, the player finds a gold shield – something that could potentially save enrique960417 in the fights to come. However, instead of instantly replacing the broken red shield with the new golden one, the player is met with a length replacement animation. It’s during these split seconds that an enemy Revenant appears and guns down the helpless player. “Apex really needs to remove the hold to swap to gold armor mechanic, it cost me countless times and just seems unnecessary,” says enrique960417. This is certainly a frustrating issue and many players believe that if a nearby shield has more health than your current one, then it should be instantly replaced. Whether Respawn will address this issue in a future update remains to be seen, but for now, you’re best of only swapping to gold when you have the seconds to spare.

Apex Legends players call for simple change to Mobile Respawn Beacons – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for simple change to Mobile Respawn Beacons Respawn/EAApex Legends players want Respawn Entertainment to implement a simple change for the Mobile Respawn Beacons that would help them quite a bit, especially with random teammates. Battle royales have always been about being the last player or team standing, and once you’re taken out, you have to search for another game. Respawn Entertainment broke the mold a little bit by giving players a banner that could be used to bring them back, so long as their teammates stayed alive and ultimately respawned them. Over time, things have changed, and other battle royales have followed suit. Respawn went one step further with their Mobile Respawn Beacons in Season 5, that allowed players to bring back a downed teammate from pretty much anywhere on the map. however, players want them to make a slight change. The idea was put forward by Redditor hesido, who suggested that teammates should be alerted when a downed teammate actually has a Mobile Respawn Beacon on them. While it’s a bit of a sin to loot your downed teammate’s death box, the idea would be that, as soon as you collect their banner, you can quickly hop into the box and take Respawn Beacon. This would, as plenty of players pointed out, be a great help for those Apex players who queue by themselves and end up with random teammates. All too often, these randoms just leave once someone goes down and they’re too far from a respawn point, so this would help a lot.

Apex Legends players call for simple change to Bangalore’s ultimate: “Tired of everyone saying she’s balanced” – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for simple change to Bangalore’s ultimate: “Tired of everyone saying she’s balanced” Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling for Respawn Entertainment to implement a simple change to Bangalore’s ultimate as the community is sick of hearing the character is “balanced.” As one of Apex’s eight original Legends, Bangalore was often seen as a favorable alongside the likes of Wraith and Pathfinder during the game’s infancy. However, twelve new Legends later, her favorability has dropped a bit. And even though she’s still amongst the top ten in pick-rates according to Apex Legends Status, fans want something to change, specifically her ultimate. Apex Legends players call for a simple change to Bangalore’s ultimate As it stands, Bangalore’s ultimate, Rolling Thunder, calls in an artillery strike that slowly sweeps across the landscape. Once the artillery is buried into the ground, it explodes, stunning and dealing damage to any enemy as well as herself. But some players want that changed as Reddit user, Lencor, proposed the question, “What if Bangalore’s ultimate instead of slowing and damaging her would trigger her passive speed boost like in the actual Apex trailer?” The question was polarizing, as it prompted a handful of differing comments from other Apex Legends fans on the post that both agreed and disagreed with it. One Redditor said, “She doesn’t need many changes currently.” However, they provided what’s on their wish list. “But being able to be more precise with her ult would make so much more sense based on the character build. Just give her a laser and a maximum range.” Another user is losing their mind as players think Bangalore is balanced. “I’m sick and f**king tired of everyone always saying that bang is balanced,” They added, “Her kit might be fairly balanced, but it’s that fact that there f**king 25,781,637,862 scan counters to her smoke in this f**king game. Everyone saying this would be overpowered, no it wouldn’t. This is actually a very good idea on OP’s (original poster) side of things.” It’s not guaranteed that Respawn Entertainment will change her ultimate as no charcater has seen an overahul of that scale yet. But one thing is certain, the community is passionate about seeing her ultimate get a makeover.

Apex Legends players call for Season 15 nerf to Seer’s “broken” Passive – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for Season 15 nerf to Seer’s “broken” Passive Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling on the developers to re-configure Seer’s Passive ability, with many claiming it is “broken” and too strong ahead of Season 15. With the arrival of every Apex Legends Season, many of our favorite Legends are tweaked, for better or worse. Before new features and more arrive in Season 15, many players are calling for Legends like Seer to have a noticeable way of detecting if their Passive ability has been used. Currently, Seer’s Heart Seeker Passive doesn’t alert enemy players when they are detected, but changes to adjust this are in demand from the game’s player-base. Apex Legends players divided over Seer’s Passive ability in Season 14 Redditor silentsnooc has banded together with other players, feeling Seer’s Passive needs to be noticeable in-game. They claim that Seer “gives you basically a free wallhack which is not even revealed to those players who are being detected.” Seer’s Passive allows players to visualize and hear nearby enemy heartbeats while aiming down sights. While useful for the player using the Legend, opponents are unable to counter this and have no way of knowing definitively if they’re being targeted. Comparatively, Bloodhound’s Ultimate is much easier to detect when it is being used against you. “Seer’s passive ability should be in some way revealing,” explained the Redditor. “Make him breathe louder so we can hear him as far as he can see us. Make him glow through walls or at least give me an icon that lets me know if a Seer has detected me and maybe, at least, how far away they are.” Though the Redditor may have good intentions, naturally, other players aren’t fully on board with their ideas. In regards to Seer’s breathing gaining a volume increase, one player said: “Not going to lie, I laughed out loud at this.” “Jokes aside, the last thing I need in this game is someone heavily breathing in my ears lol,” said another. Nevertheless, there have been suggestions on how Respawn could reign in this divisive ability. “Seer’s thing is that he uses micro-drones to detect people, so they should run with that and have some fly about in your vision when he is able to detect you with the passive,” added WhoMD21. Another said that “if they keep his broken AF passive, it needs a counter. Have it unable to sense anyone crouched. That would then make Bloodhound serve a purpose again.” With a new Season on the way, it is likely that our rosters of Legends will change again, though it remains to be seen whether Seer will receive further nerfs.

Apex Legends players call for Season 12 feature to prevent enemies abusing lag – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for Season 12 feature to prevent enemies abusing lag Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are asking Respawn Entertainment to implement a feature in matches that stops enemies on poor connections being able to abuse their lag and come out on top in matches. Any player of online games will know how frustrating poor internet connection can be – to experience and to play against. Not only does it affect a player’s ability to eliminate opponents, but it makes it even more annoying when a stuttering enemy manages to eliminate someone with a solid connection. Now, Apex Legends players are calling on the game’s developers to implement a feature in online matches that would stop lagging players from being able to play on. A Reddit post from player ‘ALFAROM30‘ articulated the point, after they were eliminated by an opponent who couldn’t be hit as a result of their lag. They said: “Couldn’t shoot him, now I know why…game should kick you out if your connection is this sh*tty.” Plenty of respondents echoed the sentiment, with some going on to accuse the opponent of ‘lag switching’. This refers to players using a literal switch to periodically cut out the internet connection to their console or PC, meaning they will stutter in-game and be incredibly tough to play against. A feature that removed players on poor connection would presumably tackle anyone ‘lag switching’ as well. Others suggested solutions that would lock players into their region when matchmaking – thereby making it less likely they would experience poor connection. One said: “Apex is probably one of the only games I know of where having a sh*tty or high ping connection is actually an advantage.” The feeling appears to be shared among many Apex players – going some way to explain why they’re calling for changes.

Apex Legends players urge Respawn to bring back a fan favorite map feature – Dexerto
Apex Legends players urge Respawn to bring back a fan favorite map feature Apex Legends players are calling for the return of a fan-favorite map feature, in the form of old in-game vault bunkers that would play a huge part in early game looting scenarios. With the release of Apex Legends’ World’s Edge map in Season 3, the Respawn developers added a quirky new feature in the form of three vaults scattered across the map. The new vaults instantly became a hit with players, as it would contain the best loot in the game, but it was only accessible by finding the rare key. While there were many glitches that would allow players to steal the loot from the vault without any key that would cause issues, players are calling for the devs to add them back. In a March 12 Reddit thread, Apex fan uuu_onizuka suggested for the devs to reintroduce the old bunkers that are “way more interesting” than the new explosive holds that replaced them. Much like the old bunkers, the Explosive Holds are scattered around the map and hold some of the best items in the game. However, players believe they’re just not as exciting. “Bunkers were way more interesting than explosive holds,” said uuu_onizuka. “Gold weapons, intense fights… I hope they return someday.” While the old bunkers were certainly more fun, they still had their issues. As pointed out in the comments, many players would camp at the vault and wait for a team to open it, making them not worth the risk at some times. “Meh, little loot for a lot of risks. I mostly ignored them,” said one. “The holds may be boring, but you get some good loot for little risk. They can come back if holds stay.” “I think the issue with these was the camping teams that made it very hard for aggressive plays,” another player added. “With the introduction of the rampart in the later season, I think it was Respawn’s way of nerfing the camp strategy.” As we near the popular battle royale’s 13th season, players can only hope to see the fan-favorite feature reintroduced to the game.

Apex Legends players call for Respawn to revert Season 14 storm changes – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for Respawn to revert Season 14 storm changes Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling for the developers to revert the changes made to the Ring in Season 14, as they claim Season 14 of Apex Legends is well underway now, once again bringing a breath of fresh air to the battle royale with the addition of Vantage to the ever-growing roster of Legends. The update also brought long-awaited changes that were requested by the community, such as a level cap increase, the removal of self-revive shields, and a ton of weapon adjustments. However, the community isn’t sold on all of the dev’s decisions, as players have now banded together to demand Respawn revert the changes to the ring. In the August 9 update, the devs made adjustments to the game’s ring system, increasing the first ring damage from 2 to 3 hp per tick and decreasing the preshrink time from 180 seconds to 60. Additionally, the ring-closing time was increased on each map. As noted in a recent Reddit thread, players aren’t pleased with the changes, with the community hitting out at the developers and calling for the changes to be reverted. “The new ring changes are way too much,” one fan wrote. “The distance you have to travel, how fast the ring starts moving give you zero time to loot, if the ring is far enough the damage on round 1 closing alone is enough to kill you if you aren’t hoarding med kits. Just finding a syringe feels like a miracle. “We need jump towers, or at least lower the damage of the storm. Round 2 closing feels like season 13’s round 3,” they added. “I find myself looking for heals more than I do ammo,” said one player. “I just think it’s crazy they removed the amount of jump towers the same season they changed the rings. Basically have to change your play style completely without any time to adapt to it,” another added. The ring changes have certainly shaken up the game’s pacing for better or worse. But, we’ll just have to wait and see if the devs revert the changes after an outcry from the community.

Apex Legends players call for Respawn to fix ‘invincible’ fridge exploit – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for Respawn to fix ‘invincible’ fridge exploit Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling for Respawn to hotfix a frosty new exploit spot on World’s Edge, which allows unscrupulous battle royale competitors to hide inside a fridge that makes them all-but invincible. There were plenty of new changes to the World’s Edge map in the arrival of Apex’s fourth season, including a huge new Planet Harvester smack bang in the middle of the map, and a dangerous new lava river in Capitol City. Perhaps the biggest change in Season 4 so far, however, is Respawn’s accidental addition of a buggy fridge in Fragment East, which players are now using to vanish from sight, and basically become invincible. What is the Fragment East fridge exploit? The exploit itself is only a fairly new discovery, and was first publicized in a video—also accidentally—by NRG streamer Brandon ‘Aceu’ Winn, and has also been reported on EA’s Q&A website for Apex Legends multiple times. Basically, there’s a fridge in one of the rooms in Fragment East, attached to half a kitchen that has been destroyed by the Planet Harvester. While the design looks innocent enough, players quickly discovered its entirely accessible. Once inside, players disappear from view. Yes, even the game’s biggest heroes like Caustic and Gibraltar fit inside, Indiana Jones 4 style. The kicker is, opponents can’t even shoot into the fridge. Once you’re inside, you’re nearly invincible. Videos have begun cropping up on Reddit of players taking full advantage of the hiding hole too, including one recently shared by GoldBoot47, who demanded Respawn take action. “The most over-powered addition to Season 4: The Fridge. Respawn, please fix,” the annoyed player added. How to combat players using the exploit Luckily, it seems like there are some ways to combat the newly-found fridge exploit if you know that players are hiding inside. The easiest way to flush out cheeky enemies is a Thermite Grenade, which lights the ground up when you throw it. Although most throwables don’t go through the fridge, nor do bullets, the fire spreads into the fridge and burns them out. Another option, though slightly riskier, is to join them in the tiny space. It seems like you can fit two legends into the fridge space itself, meaning if you know there’s only one inside, you can sprint in guns blazing and hope for the best. The last way is just to leave them. In Apex, the ever-closing ring is a threat that can deal with even the most-hidden enemies, and if your opponents want to hide, let the ring consume them—as long as it doesn’t close onto the fridge itself. And lastly, Respawn will eventually fix the glitch, so while it’s not going to help you if you fall prey to a Revenant or a Wraith hiding in the glitch spot, don’t forget that the devs will eventually hook the exploit out of the game. Aceu accidentally reveals Apex’s new fridge-based exploit at 3:08 in the video below. How could Respawn fix the glitch? Of course, the obvious answer to fixing this issue is to make sure the invincibility-bestowing fridge is a solid object that legends can’t step inside of, rather than accessible window dressing for the room in Fragment East. For some Apex players, however, they feel like there should be a little bit of revenge against those opponents that have taken advantage of the chilly hiding place, and potentially even grabbed a victory in the arena because of it. The most dastardly of ideas about what to do came from Reddit user CLAYTILL767, who suggested Respawn “cut a hole in the floor” instead of patching it, meaning players trying to benefit from the exploit would “fall into the lava” instead. It’s more than likely, however, that once Respawn has noticed the fridge is causing major problems in the battle royale, they will simply swap out the Fragment East hiding spot with a proper, solid object, removing the space. Respawn’s devs have yet to address whether they will be hot-fixing the chilly exploit though, so make sure you check the fridge next time you’re battling your way through the remnants of Capitol City, lest you meet a surprisingly frosty demise.

Apex Legends players call for Respawn to copy Call of Duty’s new anti-cheat measure – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for Respawn to copy Call of Duty’s new anti-cheat measure Respawn EntertainmentCall of Duty has implemented a new controller-based anti-cheat function and Apex Legends players are ready for Respawn to follow suit. Cheating has been a huge point of conversation in both the Call of Duty and Apex Legends communities. Both franchises have been plagued with cheaters, and while they both have their unique ways of taking care of these things, CoD recently took a huge step forward with the implementation of Cronus & XIM recognition. For those out of the loop, a Cronus is a controller emulation device that allows players to add various cheats to their arsenal, even in online games. A XIM is simply an adapter that allows players to use a mouse & keyboard setup by fooling the console into believing it’s a controller. This is a problem as it gives players a massive advantage over the competition and Apex fans are ready for their version of this cheat protection. Apex Legends players want Respawn to copy Call of Duty The call was made by a player on the Apex Legends subreddit. They simply noted that it would be nice for the Apex Legends devs to mirror the competition with their preventative system. “OD has just announced an update to Ricochet to combat Cronus and XIM. Ubisoft just a few weeks ago announced the same for Rainbow 6. Bungie commented in February that they were looking to combat it. Epic has already introduced a system to permaban users in Fortnite,” they said. “It would be nice if Respawn could indicate a move in the same direction. There certainly has been enough talk and documentation about this issue in Apex to warrant a comment.” Another user admitted that they’re shocked by Respawn not having released a statement of their own about the problem. “Cronus and Boosters are plaguing ranked for a while now. No acknowledgments from Respawn (that I’m aware of) have been made.” Others cited fear that cheaters from other titles may “flock” to Apex in light of all the other major companies attempting to set strict punishments for bending the rules. Respawn has a history of playing security-related topics close to the chest, so it’s best to stay tuned into the latest news for any official updates or anti-cheat plans.

Apex Legends players call for next Legend to fill a big gap in the meta – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for next Legend to fill a big gap in the meta Respawn EntertainmentSome Apex Legends players have become increasingly frustrated with the character diversity in the game, and believe one group of Legends needs to be shown more love going forward. With the arrival of Seer in Season 10, the group of recon legends expanded even further, joining the likes of Bloodhound and Crypto in gathering enemy intel. While the Legend fits very comfortably into the meta of the Apex Games and has quickly become a very popular pick, it has rubbed some players the wrong way. With huge debates stirring online, a number of Apex players want another support Legend to be added to the game. As it stands, there are only two recognized support characters in Apex Legends: Lifeline and Loba. In comparison, there are seven offensive Legends, five recon Legends, and four defensive Legends. Posting a screenshot of a tweet to Reddit, Bender-of-light earned thousands of upvotes and an array of awards, with hundreds of comments, mostly in agreement. Asking their peers what they think of the under-representation of Support characters in the game, this became a huge discussion for the Apex Legends community. “Let’s get some more support love in here,” said one fan. We really need more supports,” added another, while many others demanded an additional healer character. There have been several Legend leaks in the past, with Support characters seemingly planned or having been worked on at some point. Of course, it’s impossible to know exactly what is coming next, especially since we’re still so early in Season 10 at the time of writing. That said, there are other Legends, such as Gibraltar, that some players argue are also a hybrid Support type. Whether this is enough for these fans, though, remains to be seen.

Apex Legends players call for mobile-exclusive Rhapsody to be added to main game – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for mobile-exclusive Rhapsody to be added to main game Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling on EA to add recently revealed legend Rhapsody to the ‘main game’, with the mobile-exclusive character set to be out of reach of PS5, Xbox Series X and PC players. Apex Legends has experienced overwhelming success since its February 2019 launch, with millions of players across PlayStation, Xbox and PC dropping into its Titanfall-inspired world. Given that a major battle royale rival in Fortnite dropped a mobile version, few were surprised when Apex Legends’ own mobile title launched back in May 2022. However, many longer-term players of Apex Legends have been somewhat disheartened at Respawn’s confirmation that exclusive content, most notably in-game legends, will be coming to the Mobile version. That feeling amongst fans seems only to have intensified with the confirmation and reveal of Rhapsody, a mobile-exclusive legend who will drop with Season 2: Distortion on July 12. Her abilities, though unconfirmed, will center around audio, thought to be linked to locating enemies. Following the reveal, players of the ‘main game’ called on Respawn to add her on all platforms, explaining how desperate they are to get their hands on Rhapsody. Player ‘NC_Pitts‘ commented: “I really wish we could get this legend. Such an amazing design and love her kit.” The post quickly garnered upvotes as plenty of other players flocked to agree. One fellow fan said: “Mobile beats the main game again lmao. God I hate EA. Even Mobile’s skins are better…and they come out at a faster rate too.” Another echoed the sentiment: “I don’t really get the exclusivity thing they’re going with… I get they’re basically 2 different games at this point but it does seem a bit weird they’re “taking” stuff from the main game while keeping exclusivity on their own stuff.” Unfortunately, Tencent are developing the mobile version, so it’s separate to Respawn’s base game in more ways than one. However, content from the original title is in the mobile version, so fans pointed out that EA have the power to oversee greater crossovers in the future. While it seems unlikely, in this industry, we’ve learned it’s best to never say never.

Apex Legends players call for matchmaking penalties in Arenas mode – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for matchmaking penalties in Arenas mode Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have called for leaving penalties in Arenas, the 3v3 mode that dropped with Season 9: Legacy. Arenas constituted the biggest shake-up to Apex Legends’ in some time, introducing an entirely new mode and two new maps to the battle royale. The 3v3 mode pits two teams against one another across a number of rounds. It allows trios to practice their teamwork in a closed environment, where there’s no risk of a third or fourth party getting involved and throwing the situation into anarchy. Arenas is, at the start, first to three rounds. However, teams also have to win matches by a total of two rounds. Unless you’re winning 3-0 or 3-1 then, you’ll be playing 6 to 9 rounds. However, some Arenas regulars have complained that both teammates and opponents are leaving matches after losing the first round. This can pretty much ruin the match for those remaining. As a result, many players have been calling on developers Respawn to add matchmaking penalties for players who leave Arenas matches before they are completed. This would most likely take the form of matchmaking time penalties, meaning players who quit early would be prohibited from joining a new match for a certain amount of time. The more they quit, the longer the matchmaking penalty they receive would become. This is the system already in place for Ranked play in Apex. A Reddit post from u/waytoofrozen echoed the message, amassing over 16,000 upvotes at the time of writing. Others agreed with the suggestion, saying that it’s ruining matches for those solo or duo queuing. “I felt bad for the teams me and my friends faced yesterday,” one said. “We face rolled the 1st round in 2 of our matches and each time one of their teammates left. It’s not even fun at that point.” It does seem likely Respawn will add a similar feature to deter early exits from Arenas, particularly in the mode’s ranked playlist, whenever it is added. Apex Legends Ranked Leagues, in battle royale, for example, has penalties if players quit early. A minimum of 10 minutes lockout applies to all modes, as well as the forfeiting of any ranked points earned. We will probably see near-identical penalties added to Arenas’ ranked playlist, but it remains to be seen whether it’s added across the board in Respawn’s new mode.

Apex Legends players call for major sound changes in response to Season 16 feature – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for major sound changes in response to Season 16 feature Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have once more called for major sound changes after a new Season 16 feature continues to leave the community puzzled. After months of anticipation, Season 16 has finally been released, giving the community a much-needed refresh. Paired with the new season also came the anniversary celebration event — marking four years since the battle royale was released. As part of the anniversary celebrations, planes will fly overhead during matches. However, it leaves many players confused, as the trails and sounds are reminiscent of Valkyrie’s ultimate or the revive drop-ship. In a February 18 Reddit thread, Apex Legends fan ‘mafieth’ voiced their frustrations with the sound cue caused by the aircraft — criticizing the devs’ mistake of making it sound incredibly similar to in-game events. “Mini heart attack every game,” they said. “Environment SHOULD NOT have the same sounds as core game events. This is even worse than Lightning Rod on Storm Point.” The community also agreed for the most part, with many detailing their experiences with the sound cue which left them absolutely baffled. “I couldn’t figure out what the noise was, then saw the trails and I thought I was getting Valk Ulted on while I was isolated from my team,” said one. “I only find it annoying cus I keep thinking someone is getting rezed,” wrote another. “I look up in the air like a dumb*ss every time I hear this,” a player joked. It’s certainly a frustrating distraction for players, although it’s unclear whether or not the Respawn devs will actually make some necessary changes.

Apex Legends players call for major overhaul to “broken” melees – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for major overhaul to “broken” melees Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have called on developers Respawn to overhaul the game’s melee mechanics, with many lamenting them as inconsistent, overpowered, and even “broken.” Apex Legends’ core gameplay mechanics are one of the reasons it has received so many plaudits since its release back in 2019. The absence of fall damage, paired with the ability to perform never-ending slides and scale vertical walls as standard have been acclaimed. However, another of these core gameplay mechanics that has fallen short of the high praise is melees. The melee mechanic has been ever-present since the game’s launch, seeing characters swing for one another, doing 30 damage per accurate attack. Despite their relativity weak damage output, players have criticized them for their inconsistency, with seemingly arbitrary factors determining whether or not you land your melee efforts. Some players also pointed out how difficult recovery is when melee, with your HUD distorted and character forced back. Redditor ‘alonfco‘ raised the point on September 25, with a chaotic video showing multiple players spamming melees at one another. It was captioned: “We can all agree that melee needs a change right?” One player responded, joking that in Apex you”have 2 options: you can melee anyone from anywhere at anytime or you can never land a single hit”. They join a number of other disgruntled players who have taken issue with the game’s melee in the past. ‘LWF1shburne‘ described melees as “absolutely broken”. Attached was a bizarre clip in which a player melees an opponent and, despite being some way away and their opponent literally retreating behind a rock, manages to pull off an unlikely kick. Both posts received thousands of upvotes, suggesting that a significant number of players are taking issue with how melees currently operate. Whether Respawn seeks to overhaul the mechanic is unclear, but it seems that some community members think it would benefit from some adjustments.

Apex Legends players call for major changes to ranked points – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for major changes to ranked points Respawn/EAApex Legends players have suggested a few ways for Respawn Entertainment to change their current Ranked point system, with players wanting rules put in place so high-ranked players can’t just farm lower levels. Most Apex Legends players stick to normal battle royale mode, looking to pick up as many kills and wins as they can before logging off for the night. More hardcore players, though, played the Ranked mode. In Ranked, you have to put your Ranked Points on the line and tick off a few different things – placement, kills, damage, etc – to start progressing to the higher levels. For some players, though, they believe the current system is broken and rewards players who just look to farm lower-ranked players instead of constantly going up against players of their own skill level. That’s led to some discussion over what they want to be changed. Apex Legends fan PharrowXL kicked off the discussion with a simple idea: don’t give RP for kills if you eliminate a player who is actually low ranked for you to match in a game with. “It’s time to discredit KP for Predators vs people below Diamond. That way, Predators have no incentive to farm low ranked lobbies for kills,” they said. Other players quickly agreed, asking why Respawn doesn’t already do this. “If you aren’t allowed to party up with people below your rank why in the world should you be forced into a lobby with them,” said one. “Anyone who kills an unfortunate low rank in a high-rank game should not get RP from the kill,” added another, opening the net wider than just punishing Predator ranks. While the overall feeling for the change was positive, some suggested that it could drive Predator players away. “This just makes the higher ranks frustrated that they’re getting no RP despite risking theirs,” commented user Davban. “The problem isn’t the Preds, it’s how Respawn designed the system,” another added. Given that there is a clear appetite for changes, and that Respawn listens to community frustrations quite frequently, we could see a change in the future. How that change would go, though, remains to be seen.

Apex Legends players call for major change to “useless” early game loot – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for major change to “useless” early game loot Respawn/EAApex Legends players have called on Respawn to remove one “useless” piece of early game loot and claimed it just takes up space in deathboxes. Apex Legends has plenty of loot for players to collect once they drop into their battle royale matches. From guns to ammo to armor, there are plenty of resources players need to scoop up upon landing. Over the years, developer Respawn has made different changes to the game’s loot system, removing things the team found unnecessary or tweaking the amount certain items spawned in. Now, fans have requested the developer finally get rid of one item that some players have claimed is “useless:” the White Helmet. Apex Legends fans want White Helmets gone A post on the Apex Legends subreddit sparked a discussion among the community after one player made a post titled, “Why is this still in the game.” The OP explained, “No seriously. If everyone spawns with a white helmet and only ever removes it when coming across a higher tier one why does this still need to be in the game? To me this just looks like a useless item that takes up space in everyones deathbox.” If the dev team were to get rid of the White Helmet, they suggested that Respawn could simply nerf player’s base headshot multiplier. Many fans argued that the White Helmet is in fact gone from the loot pool and that any found on the ground are those already discarded by players. “They’re not in the loot pool. if you find any on the ground, they were dropped by players who swapped to a better helmet.” Additionally, fans argued that getting rid of the White Helmet would cause more problems than it would solve. “Removing it from the death box is gonna mess with people’s muscle memory.” The player referenced a change Respawn made to swapping weapon attachments, “In theory, it was a more logical button layout, but it messed with everyone’s muscle memory and people hated it so much that they reverted back the change.” However, the OP was not alone in their thinking. “I tried explaining this to someone and I got downvoted to hell. I completely agree with OP,” said one fan, while another suggested, “They should just tie the helmet with the level armor you have. This reeks of old battle royale energy.” Whether or not Respawn will ever make this change remains to be seen, as it may simply be more trouble than its worth in the long run.

Apex Legends players call for Maggie buffs as Season 12 pick rate slumps – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for Maggie buffs as Season 12 pick rate slumps Respawn EntertainmentAfter showing out early during her release in Season 12, Mad Maggie has steadily begun to drop in popularity, something that some Apex Legends players want to be changed with buffs. Apex Legends Season 12 was released on February 8 and not only did it signify tons of new content for fans to enjoy but it also gave the game its 20th legend, Mad Maggie. The Rebel Warlord from Salvo was a smash hit to begin the season as she shook up the meta and became the third most-used Legend just behind Octane and Wraith. But since then, she has seen a steady decline in popularity dropping down to 12th place, raising concerns for fans. Apex Legends players call for Mad Maggie buffs amidst popularity decline It’s normal for new Legends to drop in popularity a few weeks after their release. As time goes on, players either get bored or find that the kit and abilities aren’t as good as others, which leads to questions pertaining to their place in the meta. That’s where Reddit user Supercomfyplanet on the official Apex Legends subreddit comes in, as with that in mind, they questioned Mad Maggie’s place in the meta. “Do you still think she’s balanced or in need of buffs?” they asked, using a screenshot from apexlegendsstatus.com. “Mad Maggie is now 12th in terms of pick rate,” said Supercomfyplanet. “We’ve not even halfway through the season yet. do you still think she’s balanced or in need of buffs?” In response to this, others on the thread gave their differing thoughts. “She’s only good if you’re a pusher and wanna swing first,” said one. Plus maybe people are playing the free champs we got.” “I think her ball needs to do more damage than just 5, 10, or 15 seems more reasonable,” said another. Mad Maggie has dropped down in popularity by a 16.54%, going down a total of nine spots on the pick-rate list. Only time will tell if Respawn Entertainment will look to change that.

Apex Legends players call for Legend reworks in place of another new character – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for Legend reworks in place of another new character Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have called on Respawn to focus on Legend reworks in upcoming seasons instead of releasing new characters. Season 13 of Apex Legends is on the cusp of releasing and Newcastle will be the new face arriving in the Outlands on May 10. Although excitement is at an all-time high for Saviors, some members of the community are calling on Respawn to shift their focus in upcoming major updates. Instead of adding new characters in every single season, players have suggested that the devs take the time to rework certain Legends that are underused or outdated. With Mirage, Lifeline, Revenant, and Gibraltar all being frequently mentioned by players as desperately needing changes, this would give Respawn the opportunity to address their issues. Apex Legends players want reworks over new characters During a dev Q&A ahead of the Season 13 update, Dexerto asked Senior Character Designer Devan McGuire whether there could be a point where Apex has too many characters and whether Legend releases may slow down in the future? In response, he revealed that although there are no plans to change the pattern of Legend releases at the moment, they don’t want to “saturate the pool” and may consider it in the future. This sparked a discussion on Twitter and Reddit between a lot of players who liked the idea and suggested that Respawn take the time to rework characters instead of releasing new Legends. “We don’t need new legends we need some of the older legends to be reworked into ones worth using… no more tiny changes that don’t change anything, give them meaningful passives and abilities.” We don’t need new legends we need some of the older legends to be reworked into ones worth using. No more 10 second cooldown tweaks, decreased time to detonation(i.e. Bang), no more tiny changes that don’t change anything. Give them meaningful passives and abilities. — BlazinAzn (@BlazinAzn7) May 3, 2022 Apex Legends YouTuber Thordan Smash even mentioned the idea of an “Operation Health” update that strictly focuses on improving bugs and gameplay, a suggestion that has been previously dismissed by the devs in the past. This would give Respawn an opportunity to address multiple character reworks in a single season, but it would likely mean significantly less new content compared to a standard update. Either way, with the Apex roster reaching a total of 21 Legends with Newcastle in Season 13, it seems likely that the devs will have to slow down new arrivals at some point in the near future. Major overhauls could be the solution, but they also pose a huge number of challenges, including reworking a Legend without losing the essence of their original design.

Apex Legends players call for Hammerpoint Rounds return with rework – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for Hammerpoint Rounds return with rework Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players want Hammerpoint Rounds to be reworked and reintroduced in Season 11, and they’ve even come up with some tweaks to help keep the hop-up balanced. Ever since its removal in the Season 9 update, Hammerpoint Rounds have been a polarizing topic in the community. While some players loved shredding through opponents with no armor, others hated how strong the Mozambique and P2020 were with the hop-up. Now, two seasons later, a lot of players are calling for Hammerpoint Rounds to return, but not in their previous state. The community has even suggested a few tweaks Respawn could make to ensure the hop-up isn’t broken if it ever does return in Season 11. Apex players want Hammerpoint Rounds back in Season 11 Taking to the Apex Legends subreddit, user Cany0udance decided to create a video explaining why they think Hammerpoint Rounds should return in Season 11. For starters, Cany0udance acknowledges that after the ammo capacity buffs to the Mozambique in Season 9, the hop-up would definitely be broken if it ever returned in its previous state. However, they argue that Hammerpoint Rounds are beneficial to both the Mozambique and the P2020, as they make the weapons useful in the late game. As a solution to the balance issue, Cany0udance suggests making it so the Hammerpoint hop up consumes two ammo per shot. This means the base Mozambique can keep its buffs while also having the potential to shred through enemies with no armor in the later stages of a match. After being described as a “high-risk high-reward” hop-up by a dev when it got removed, it’s hard to know how Respawn feels about the attachment and its place in the game. While it’s clear there’s a demand for Hammerpoint Rounds to return, it’s possible the hop-up is too hard to balance and the devs would prefer to keep it on the sidelines for now. However, when it did get removed in Season 9, Respawn did reveal they’d see if there was ever an opportunity for the hop-up to return in the future, so there’s always a possibility.

Apex Legends players call for Fortnite’s new anti-cheat to stop strike packs – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for Fortnite’s new anti-cheat to stop strike packs Respawn/EAApex Legends players are hoping that Respawn Entertainment follows Epic Games’ lead with a new feature that tackles players using strike packs in-game. Just like every other battle royale out there, Apex Legends has had to contend with its fair share of headaches from cheaters and exploits over the last few years. Plenty of ban waves have been sent out by Respawn’s security team to deal with those players using wall hacks, aimbots, and God mode, but they’ve struggled to get a firm grip on players using strike packs. Strike packs, if you don’t know, are attachments that can be put onto a controller to give players a leg up. In a big step, Epic Games have announced new anti-cheat measures in Fortnite that will now cover these controller attachments, and Apex players are hopeful that Respawn will follow suit. Apex Legends players want Fortnite anti-cheat feature The announcement from Epic Games has done the rounds across the Apex community, and it’s certainly got plenty of players hopeful that Respawn can replicate it – or even ask Epic how they’ve done it. “We need this. Zens and strike packs should never have been allowed in the first place,” tweeted one player. “I hope Apex does this. I’m so sick of this and strike packs in Arenas,” added another. “This is really cool from Fortnite. I would LOVE to see this gone as a console player. Would feel way better about the integrity of the competition I face,” commented another player. Though the majority of players want to see something similar brought into Apex, others aren’t hopeful it’ll happen anytime soon. “This can’t be proved 100%, a strikepack is in the controller and as a charger device marked so this useless,” argued one. “Will Respawn do it? Doubt it, lol,” added another. Respawn have already taken similar devices of out pro play in the likes of the ALGS, so it might not be a massive step for them to combat them in pub games. We’ll just have to wait and see if anything changes.

Apex Legends players call for fireman Gibraltar skin to support Australia – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for fireman Gibraltar skin to support Australia Australia is currently in the middle of its worst bushfire season, and Apex Legends players are calling on Respawn to add skins to the game that have the proceeds go towards helping the country. With fires roaring across Australia and little being done about it, the Apex Legends community wants to help out in any way they can. Many have called on Respawn Entertainment to add some additional skins in the game to help raise money to help Australia. It’s a win-win scenario because players would be able to get new skins and money would be raised towards a good cause. However, if Respawn was going to do this, the players want to make sure it’s done right and they have suggested who should get the skins. As it turns out, Gibraltar is a firefighter, so he’d be the absolute perfect fit if anybody was going to get a skin made. Respawn haven’t said anything about a potential set of skins, but players have been speaking up about it. Since this would be for a good cause, it doesn’t necessarily have to make sense lore-wise, and we could even receive a Pathfinder firefighter skin if they wanted to go that route. With that said, Gibraltar has been the most requested character so far. The skins aren’t exactly the important part here, the firefighters would just make the most sense, but players sound much more interested in raising money. Apex Legends players aren’t the only ones asking about support for Australia either. Overwatch players have already asked for firefighter skins for Junkrat, Roadhog, and others to help support the country. The gaming community has come together in a big way to raise money. The Click Crew raised over $300k to go towards combating the bushfires. As the issue becomes more widespread, we can expect to see even more money raised. Perhaps, Respawn, Overwatch, or some other game will actually introduce special skins to raise money in the near future. It’s clear the demand for them is there, players just need a developer to make the option available.

Apex Legends players call for “drastic” Ranked Arenas rework due to low player count – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for “drastic” Ranked Arenas rework due to low player count Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling for a rework to Ranked Arenas after seeing that 61% of players haven’t played or completed their placement matches. Introduced all the way back in Season 9, Arenas was designed to give the Apex community a new round-based gameplay experience that’s faster-paced than traditional BR matches. While Respawn definitely succeeded in creating a fun and engaging secondary mode, a lot of players aren’t satisfied with the Ranked side of Arenas. After complaints from the community about unbalanced matchmaking and a lack of rewards, a stat from Apex Legends Status has revealed that Ranked Arenas has a shockingly low population. This has led players to call for a “drastic” overhaul to the mode in hopes that it would revive its popularity. Apex Legends players want an overhaul to Ranked Arenas Since releasing the 3v3 mode, Respawn has added countless new maps including Overflow, Encore, and of course, Habitat. Despite all of this new content for Arenas, players continue to complain about balancing and matchmaking. Now, a new stat from Apex Legends Staus has sparked a discussion on the game’s subreddit and it involves the popularity of Ranked Arenas. According to the stat tracking site, over 61% of players haven’t played any Ranked Arenas or didn’t complete their placement matches. After seeing this stat, a lot of the community is calling on Respawn to conduct a “drastic” overhaul to the mode before it’s too late. The majority of players are putting the mode’s low population down to the “utterly broken” matchmaking that pits low-ranked players against top-tier opponents, so it’s obvious players love the mode but hate the Ranked system. With the brand new 9v9 Control LTM being introduced in Season 12, it’s unlikely Respawn is focused on fixing or addressing the problems Ranked Arenas is facing. In its current state, it’s obvious a lot of Apex players use it as a casual mode and aren’t interested in the Ranked queue. However, it’s always possible that the devs decide to dedicated a big update to the secondary mode, as they have been continuously adding new maps and features to Arenas since its arrival in Season 9. For now, it’s just a case of waiting for future updates and seeing if Respawn takes the time to address the system behind Ranked Arenas.

Apex Legends players call for another Crypto rework after “frustrating” Season 12 changes – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for another Crypto rework after “frustrating” Season 12 changes Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are calling on Respawn for more Crypto adjustments after players expressed concern with his new kit following a Season 12 update. Crypto is certainly one of Apex Legends’ harder-to-use characters thanks to the complexity of his deployable drone tactical ability. Though Crypto received a notable rework in Season 12 that aimed to make him stronger and more accessible, some have found it’s actually done the opposite. Now, players are calling on Respawn to either revert Crypto’s kit back entirely or add more changes to him in order to alleviate newfound dissatisfaction. Apex Legends demand more Crypto changes On May 28, a post on the Apex Legend’s subreddit gained traction when a player point out how Crypto had actually been nerfed rather than buffed like intended. The post was written by user Kai-ni and was titled, “Crypto’s ‘buff’ was more of a nerf. Hear an average Crypto Main out.” They also explain that Crypto’s rework “definitely feels more like a nerf” at the moment and laid out a handful of key issues they’ve found with his current kit. Kai-ni claims Crypto essentially feels “a lot more clunky” thanks to lengthy drone animations and the amount of noise Crypto’s drone makes holding him back. “Absolutely agree with everything you’ve stated. The rework was ok-ish initially but over time more of the issues surfaced,” said user “acidporkbuns,” who echoed the sentiments of many other Crypto mains. After just one day, Kai-ni’s post received over 60 comments with the majority of Reddit users agreeing that Crypto needs more adjustment to really shine again. Kai-ni supports their ideas for Crypto’s rework with the fact that his pick rate in both Season 12 and 13 has been lower than ever. As for what buffs Crypto could receive, Kai-ni and other Reddit users suggested giving Crypto’s drone the health it had before the rework to make it less flimsy. Additionally, ideas like shortening Crypto’s drone animations, lowering the drone’s audio, and speeding up throwing his drone out were also met with support. Only time will tell if Respawn takes this community feedback to heart or not. One thing seems clear: Crypto mains aren’t content with where the surveillance Legend is sitting at the moment.

Apex Legends players call for change to “annoying” animation when looting – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for change to “annoying” animation when looting Respawn/EASome Apex Legends players are calling for a change or outright removal of the animation for picking up a teammate’s banner – showing how it can seriously interfere with combat. Others argue it’s meant to be that way. Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment is constantly flooded with change requests for the game from the Apex community. This is an addition to big requests like cross-progression, which Respawn says they’re working on, as well as private matches for all players, which is also “still in development”. With Apex Legends’ large player base, there is always going to be a huge list of requests from the community – but often the community itself can’t agree on things. One example is about the animation for picking up a teammate’s banner. In a post on Reddit, an Apex player vented about having to view their teammate’s banner before looting their box. In the clip, the animation of viewing the teammate banner got in the way of looting the box, causing the player precious time and got them killed. When under heavy fire, those few seconds are extremely valuable, and not being able to hold your weapon for those few moments can cost you your life. One user said, “My issue is that the animation takes so long. It’s my f**king teammate, I don’t need to check the tag to make sure I grabbed the right banner.” Players also complained about how long the animation time lasts, as it leaves you vulnerable, one player saying “Yeah, the looking animation just so annoying.” But, other players think that the animation length is intended and should be there to put you at a disadvantage. “That animation takes long for a reason it’s a game mechanic so you have to purposely spend time without your gun to pick up your teammates banner,” another player argued. The teammate banner animation changes can be added to the laundry list of changes players are looking for from Apex, although this one is smaller in scale compared to the others like private lobbies. The team working on Apex is always listening to feedback, and has implemented a number of quality of life fixes based on player’s recommendations, particularly from Reddit. We’ll have to wait and see if Respawn thinks these complaints are valid and announces potential changes.

Apex Legends players call for Caustic ability change to help teammates – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for Caustic ability change to help teammates Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have called for a simple change to be made to Caustic so they are no longer a detriment to their teammates. As the different characters in Apex Legends have their own different set of abilities, fans have been finding ways to use them in order to outplay opponents and ultimately claim victory. Many of the abilities are fairly helpful – Pathfinder, Wraith, and Octane can help squads quickly reposition themselves, while Lifeline can give teammates a boost to their health. However, not all of them are as beneficial to a team. Caustic’s gas traps have been a long-standing problem for many players. As Caustic’s gas traps slow and impair the vision of teammates, not just enemies, players have called on Respawn Entertainment to make a fix so that a team can get out of a tight spot and not have what should be a helping hand, affect them at all. The newest call came from Reddit user PuggyOG who posted “am I right or am I right? Make it so that Caustic’s teammates don’t get slowed by their gas,” to the game’s subreddit, with their suggestion quickly gaining traction and support from other players. “Agreed! My friend is a caustic main and it’s very annoying getting affected by his gas, we’re slowed down and can’t see a thing!” added PastxlPxnk in support of the change. However, not everyone agreed with giving the already powerful legend another boost. “That would be a pretty big buff for Caustic and he’s already strong,” said Xatax0. Another fan, Anzackk, commented: “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Caustic’s gas should slow and blind, but only one of these should be affecting teammates, not both.” Of course, the final say on changes to legends come from Respawn themselves, but the developers have shown that they’ll take on feedback with other tweaks in the past. Whether or not they do with Caustic, though, remains to be seen, but it’d take a lot of balancing to get right.

Apex Legends players call for big changes to “nightmare” Kings Canyon – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for big changes to “nightmare” Kings Canyon Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are fuming over the state of Kings Canyon and are calling for big changes to make the map less of a “nightmare” to play on. Apex Legends’ debut map, Kings Canyon has a soft spot in the heart of longtime players. But the seasons haven’t been kind to the first Apex Arena and players feel it could use some healthy balance changes to bring it up to speed with the others. This can be especially contentious with players when the game leaves Olympus and World’s Edge out of the map rotation with Kings Canyon featured on multiple playlists. Since this can be the case at times, people want Respawn to look into the issue by giving the classic map some changes that will make it easier to play on. Apex Legends Kings Canyon Respawn Entertainment have blown up and restructured big parts of Kings Canyon in past seasons. While those events pushed the Apex story forward, it left a lot to be desired from the layout of the battle royale map. “You’re going to get third partied on any map,” user ‘JL_snow’ said. “But this map you can’t do much anything to stop or stall a third party. “Your options are usually A) be in a very small building covered with holes all over the walls that can be shot / naded thru, or B) be outside in the complete wide open because there’s not really anything else nearby.” Getting ‘third partied’ means being attacked by another team while already fighting a different squad and it’s a danger in any battle royale. But players are calling Kings Canyon a “nightmare” to play on for its overall layout and building design that lends itself getting flanked. “This split has been a horrible nightmare,” ‘graythegeek’ said. “Full pred teams hiding in houses, 4-5 teams tanking zone to 3p or hide (WE and Olympus too big to allow this) plus of course the endless 3ps. We need a new map.” A lack of meaningful points of interest (POIs) that spread out the loot also contributes to the problem. “Some of the POIs in KC still have the loot density from S1,” user ‘SteelCode’ said. “Whereas Olympus and WE have had updates that increased loot that helped improve the spread of player drops. “If they could get some better loot spawns outside of the handful of big POI, it wouldn’t feel so ‘small.’” There are only a couple of worthwhile POIs for players to choose from with high-tier loot and things only get worse when half the lobby wants to drop there. Respawn routinely issues map updates in their big Apex Legends patch releases and some players think it’s time to give Kings Canyon a proper overhaul.

Apex Legends players call for better way to inspect weapon skins – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for better way to inspect weapon skins Respawn/EAApex Legends fans want a better weapon inspection system after a lack of innovations since the start of the game. Inspecting weapons is a great way for players to view new skins and is a popular feature for FPS games. Sadly, Apex Legends is one of the few games in the genre not to have this feature. Weapon inspections are huge in CS:GO as some weapon skins go for upwards of $1.5 million dollars. In addition to CS:GO, both Warzone and Valorant introduced weapon inspections back in 2020. Apex skins don’t hold the same market value as CS:GO and Valorant, but fans want a better way to show off their unique weapon skins. Apex players demand improvements to the weapon menu Apex Legends has a feature that allows players to view all of the skins they unlocked in the main menu. Unfortunately, players are not able to fully rotate weapons in the menu while inspecting skins. Reddit user Yes-terday made a thread and said, “why is the rotation limit still there? Been like that since Season 1, and it is still annoying.” One user claimed, “I remember reading somewhere in the patch notes that somehow people were using the full rotation to cheat in-game so that’s why they got rid of it so quick.” Another user added, “It’s because there are a couple of skins that aren’t complete on the other side, so they just hide the right half of the gun so nobody notices.” Whatever the reason may be, it looks like Apex Legends fans may be without a better weapon inspection system for the foreseeable future. Make sure also to check out our full coverage of the 2022 ALGS Championship.

Apex Legends players call for hardware bans after cheater plagues players with multiple hacks – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for hardware bans after cheater plagues players with multiple hacks Respawn/EAAfter encountering some Apex Legends players using multiple hacks at once, players are pleading with Respawn to take action against cheaters. It’s an unfortunate truth that cheaters will plague any popular multiplayer game at some point over the course of its lifespan. Recently, Apex Legends fans have started to notice players using very intrusive cheats, that can cause players to constantly reload and even drop stacks of ammo out of their inventory. After more and more video evidence of these hacks has surfaced among the community, players are fed up with Apex Legends’ cheating epidemic and waiting for developer Respawn to take action. Apex Legends players fed up with cheaters A post on the Apex Legends subreddit once again sparked discussion among the community after showcasing a video of one Wraith player using multiple hacks to win a game. The Wraith player can be seen throwing grenades that instantly explode on targets, forcing opponents to reload, and using an aimbot. Naturally, these hacks result in the Wraith player winning the game. The OP called these hacks “the most intrusive cheats” they’d ever seen and said, “Surely people like this should get a hardware ban.” For those who don’t know, hardware bans are fairly severe penalties that use aspects of one’s physical gaming setup, like a PC’s motherboard or internet router, to track and permanently ban players from games. Many members of the Apex community agreed that some action from Respawn needs to be taken, with some sharing their own experiences with cheaters over the past few weeks. “Just had a game where everyone on my team was stuck constantly reloading. Full mags didn’t matter whatsoever. There’s no outplay for this hack… Something needs to be done because it’s game-breaking.” Other fans ridiculed the game’s servers and said the fact that these hacks can even make it into matches is worrying. “The security in this game is a joke… These hacks actively change >your< input even. They basically remote-control what your character does with the infinite reloading for example.” Sadly, Respawn has remained fairly quiet about the issue on social channels, so it is unclear if action is being taken behind the scenes. One thing is abundantly clear, however: Apex Legends players have had enough.

Apex Legends players call for Bangalore heirloom & Titanfall feature in Season 8 – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for Bangalore heirloom & Titanfall feature in Season 8 Respawn/EAApex Legends players are desperate for Respawn Entertainment to give Bangalore an heirloom at the start of Season 8, and they also want to see some Titanfall features added as well. As the Apex Legends seasons have unfolded, fans of the battle royale title have gotten more insight into the backstories of the different characters – be it through a Stories from the Outland video, the in-game comic books, or their voice lines with other characters. This has also led to a select group of legends, mostly made up of the original set of characters, also having their own heirloom items – special melee weapons that play into the backstory. These heirlooms are added with each new collection event, and while Gibraltar is set to bag his in the Fight Night event, fans are already looking forward to next season, hoping that Bangalore benefits. Reddit user CeeChallaposted the classic ‘A Hero’s Fall’ loading screen from Season 2 which shows Bangalore before her days in the Apex Games as a member of the IMC in the Titanfall universe, gaining thousands of upvotes in support. While the Redditor asked as to when that particular Bangalore look will be added as a skin, others focused on the heirloom and getting more lore. “Prob [get the skin] next season if she gets an heirloom then and they expand on her lore,” said one user. “She can easily have the best skins and heirloom if they go deep in lore,” added another. “Bro, I’ve waited 2 seasons [for a Bangalore heirloom] and saved my shards just for them to drop a Gibby’s heirloom. Pain,” added another commenter. “I will be disappointed if her heirloom isn’t a detached stock,” said another player. What are pilots in Titanfall? Additionally, some fans also debated Bangalore’s lore, and whether or not she was a pilot – the elite fighters in Titanfall. She wasn’t actually a pilot like Jack Cooper from Titanfall 2, but some players would like to see a Pilot show up. “Could you imagine a pilot entering the apex ring? Just watching someone of that level slaughter in the ring would be amazing,” said one fan. “Oh I would love that but it would have to be a nerfed version of a pilot,” added another. There’s no telling if the community will see either of their wishes granted in Season 8, seeing as Respawn will have been working on it for quite some time already. The devs have said previously that they’ve already planned for content beyond Season 10, so, it could just be that they have it in their back pocket and that fans are in for a waiting game.

Apex Legends players call for akimbo Mozambique nerf as ‘unfair’ guns dominate ALGS – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for akimbo Mozambique nerf as ‘unfair’ guns dominate ALGS Respawn/EAThe dual-wield Mozambique shotguns have started dominating in ALGS and Apex Legends players have had enough. Some even want Respawn to nerf them already. For the longest time, Apex Legends players looked at the Mozambique with pure disdain. The small shotgun wouldn’t even be picked up by some fans, even if they had no other options. Respawn has played into this at times, creating an April Fool’s mode around the Mozam being all-powerful. However, they took things up a few levels in Season 22. Now, the shotgun is able to be dual-wielded, allowing players to get off rapid-fire shots at close range. Naturally, many players have gravitated towards the brand-new feature, especially in competitive games. With ALGS Year 4 Split 2 getting underway, the Akimbo shotguns have started dominating, and players aren’t happy. The stats from day one of competitive play showed that the dual-wield Mozambique registered over 95,000 in damage. That is more than 14,000 more damage than the second-place Hemlok AR. “Get the mozams nerfed please,” one fan said. “No skill expression, just hold down the mouse or trigger and profit. At least take away the automatic and hammers.” Some players harped on the fact that you can use Hammerpoint rounds with the Akimbo mod too, calling it “not fair” right now. “Akimbo is fine, hammerpoint on top of Akimbo isn’t. You gotta choose one or the other,” one said. “I feel bad for the pros. They have to use it because it’s so much more powerful than anything. Respawn should be embarrassed,” commented another. “I do not understand the thought process of Akimbo, it’s a nice idea but they’ve implemented it in the worst way possible,” another weighed in. With the Akimbo weapons only being added at the start of the new season, it’ll be a while before any serious changes are made. Yet, players are clearly annoyed.

Apex Legends players call for a buff to the game’s weakest weapon – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call for a buff to the game’s weakest weapon Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have called for a buff to the P2020 pistol, arguing that the weapon needs a new hop-up after the removal of Hammerpoint Rounds. Apex Legends Season 10 is well underway and the community is enjoying all of the new content that arrived with the major update. Whether it’s Ranked Arenas, the new Legend Seer, or the deadly Rampage LMG, Respawn certainly knocked it out of the park with Emergence. Despite this, although the devs are frequently adding new weapons to the game, players have voiced their concerns about the dwindling power of some of the older guns. One of these is the P2020 pistol, a weapon that is only ever used by players when they initially drop into a map and cannot find any other alternatives. Apex Legends players suggest buff ideas for P2020 While the majority of the guns in Apex Legends are viable in the meta, a lot of the weapons in the pistol category are only used by players if absolutely necessary. The P2020 pistol certainly falls underneath this bracket and is rarely picked up unless it’s straight after a player has dropped into a match. Before long, it is usually replaced by a more powerful shotgun, SMG, or AR. Read More: When is the Apex Legends Halloween event? – To bring the P2020 back into the fold, a thread on the Apex Legends subreddit has called for the weapon to be buffed. While some commenters have suggested a new hop-up for the gun that gives it a triple-shot burst, others have even argued that Respawn should implement an akimbo mechanic. Either of these options would certainly give the P2020 a boost in power and may encourage players to run it as a secondary in certain scenarios. Although the P2020 had the Hammerpoint Rounds attachment originally, the weapon has been lacking since the hop-up’s removal, making it one of the weakest guns in the game. While it’s obvious players are not asking for the pistol to be brought into the top-tier of the meta, they do want the option to run the gun without it feeling incredibly underpowered. We’ll have to wait and see if Respawn agrees with the thread and decides to give the pistol a boost of power. However, for the time being, it remains a weapon that is only used by players when there are no other options.

Apex Legends players call EA “money hungry” after major Battle Pass overhaul – Dexerto
Apex Legends players call EA “money hungry” after major Battle Pass overhaul Respawn EntertainmentRespawn and EA announced some massive changes to its Apex Legends Battle Pass system, and players are not thrilled with the overhaul. The Battle Pass restructuring, announced on July 8, changed the system in three major ways: Players can no longer buy the pass with Apex Coins (the in-game currency), the pass is now attached to splits (not seasons), and a new Premium Battle Pass tier was introduced. The Apex community has quickly criticized these changes for adding even more transactions to the game, despite the announcement framing the overhaul as good for players as it rewards them with more content overall. Based on social media outcry, the shift away from allowing players to purchase the premium pass using Apex Coins has irked players the most. “Wait, we can’t use the Apex coins from last season to buy the new season pass? That’s awful,” one player said on X. In previous seasons, players could buy the premium battle pass and save up the Apex Coins earned from completing it to put toward the next season’s pass. This allowed players to buy the Battle Pass once and get the next few for free so long as they played the game enough to earn more Apex Coins. “Respawn realized they were losing money because people were just saving the coins from the previous battle passes to buy the next ones so they decided to not fix any of the large issues with the game and make a new version of the battle pass instead,” Apex Legends content creator SoaR Lumi said. Others pointed out how, by attaching the pass to splits instead of a full season, EA and Respawn are charging players effectively double compared to the old system. If a player wants to purchase the highest premium tier for the entirety of Season 22, they will have to fork over $20 for the first split and $20 for the second. “$40 a season for the battle pass and you can’t even purchase with apex coins anymore. EA has made some money-hungry decisions in the past but this might be the worst one yet,” Apex pro Hambino said on social media. These changes come just as Apex is experiencing a massive dip in active players as Season 21 draws on. Many are pointing to the lack of quality-of-life improvements as the reason people are abandoning the title. Whether these changes will impact the game’s player numbers come Season 22 remains to be seen. The developers are letting players try out the new system for free at the start of the new season, so sentiment could change once the new content rolls around.

Apex Legends players brutally roast “desperate” cheater for hacking in Silver lobbies – Dexerto
Apex Legends players brutally roast “desperate” cheater for hacking in Silver lobbies RespawnApex Legends players have piled in on a hacker for cheating in Silver Ranked lobbies of the battle royale, stating they “ruined” the lobby for everyone. Cheating is a problem in nearly every video game, with certain players willing to hack in order to get ahead in-game. Apex Legends is no different. Respawn and EA have committed to making the game as cheat-free as possible but, as is always the case, some slip through the net. While cheating is most common in high-level matches – understandable given cheaters are way more likely to win matches than non-cheating opponents – there are occasions when hackers bizarrely rear their heads in low-level games. That is what happened in this instance, when player ‘IMPeacefulGamer’ came across an obvious hacker in their Silver Ranked Leagues lobby. According to the player, the hacker “ruined the fun for the whole lobby”. Attached was a clip showing the cheater taking out multiple players, all while barely breaking a sweat or missing a shot. Other Redditors quickly flocked to the post, seeking to draw attention to the cheater. It was also noted that the player killed by the hacker was in Silver II, making the cheater’s actions even more embarrassing. One player said: “this dude’s hacking in Silver, I mean how bad can someone be? How desperate? Even after hacking he doesn’t have a 4k badge on the banner… Where is the sense of accomplishment in any of this?” Another agreed: “How do people have any fun cheating? I get it can suck to lose, but how is it fun for some program to do it all for you. No satisfaction from improvement or your own skill. I just don’t get it.” The OP did confirm they had reported the cheater in-game in the hopes of getting them banned. Respawn and EA continue to work hard to limit cheating in Apex Legends but, as more players encounter them, worries among the community continue to grow.

Apex Legends players break the game by adding emojis to usernames – Dexerto
Apex Legends players break the game by adding emojis to usernames Respawn Entertainment, AppleApex Legends players have somehow managed to add emojis to their names, and it’s literally crashing the game. Here’s how to activate Streamer Mode to keep your RP safe. If there’s one thing that gamers across every virtual universe take pride in, it’s their in-game name. Apex Legends, of course, is no exception. We’ve seen one Overwatch pro change their in-game name to one that conjures up images of self-professed Supermodel of the World, RuPaul Charles, but Apex Legends players have gone one step further and have added emojis to their online aliases. The problem is, however, that these sneaky name changes appear to be breaking the game, forcing players to turn on ‘Streamer Mode’ to keep their game from crashing. Apex players add emojis to in-game names In most games, emojis are classified as “illegal characters” alongside accented letters, symbols and punctuation, therefore meaning they can’t be used your username. However, it turns out that some players have managed to trick the system to add them to their alias. YouTuber Gaming Merchant writes that “the new emoji/icon in name thing is crashing games, losing people RP and blocking your screen.” Urging people to try out “Streamer Mode,” which blocks out the name of other players and replaces them with generic pre-generated ones, they warn people to “protect” themselves. The new emoji/icon in name thing is crashing games, losing people RP and blocking your screen – turn on streamer mode to protect yourself pic.twitter.com/xd8Pk75LCu — The Gaming Merchant (@GamingMerchant_) December 17, 2021 How to turn on Streamer Mode in Apex Legends If you’ve fallen victim to this and are sick of losing RP or getting kicked out of the game, activating Streamer Mode is relatively easy: Open the game’s “Settings” menu – Select the “Gameplay” tab – Scroll down to “Streamer Mode” – Toggle to “On” – From here on in, you’ll only see names such as “Seer1234” in-game, negating the problem and keeping your RP intact while warding off any unwanted AFK penalties. Hopefully Respawn act to fix this problem, as perpetually having to regrind for your hard-earned rewards is going to become very tiresome, very quickly.

Apex Legends players boycott game over EA layoffs controversy – Dexerto
Apex Legends players boycott game over EA layoffs controversy Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have rallied for the community to boycott the game over controversies surrounding EA laying off Respawn developers and in-game transactions. Developers of Apex Legends, Respawn Entertainment have been hit was a fresh wave of layoffs as part of EA’s mass cutback. This has seen a further 5% of its staff being made redundant, which is about 670 jobs. It was reported that 23 staff members from the Apex team had been made redundant. Various devs posted to Twitter/X to announce they had been let go, with one stating: “I don’t know how people dictating these actions sleep at night after casually shattering X number of human lives.” With various stories being revealed by devs and EA’s CEO, Andrew Wilson, stating that monetization earnings can be increased by using AI to boost in-game transactions, it has left the player base furious. Some of the Apex Legends community have revealed they are finally “done” and have called for players to stop playing the Battle Royale altogether. Apex Legends players are finally “done” after EA layoffs Apex Legends player ScoobyDoobyDreww expressed their frustrations with the reported layoffs at EA and the in-game purchases controversy: “EA confirmed all the layoffs from Respawn, and Devs have come out and said how cold they were treated and tossed out like trash, one Dev had been there since the start of Apex and had her job replaced by AI. “I think I’m done with this game forever at this point, maybe even all EA period, the company has just been buying studios, draining their lifeblood, and then dumping them. They are a terrible company to support and I can’t in good conscience give them any more money.” The player ended by claiming: “Andrew Wilson is scum, and doesn’t deserve the billions of dollars he’s made exploiting players and ruining devs’ lives.” Despite some having the view to: “Stop buying in-game content. Simple,” many players echoed the thoughts that this was “not enough.” Instead, numerous players rallied for the community to stop playing Apex altogether. “It’s not enough to stop buying stuff in the game. You have to stop engaging with their products,” one player said. Another responded: “That has a diminishing effect. They lose some money but realistically someone is always gonna buy in-game content… Everybody has to abandon them completely before any changes are made.” With EA having already experienced several layoffs over the past few years, and the influx of AI making strides in the gaming industry, it remains uncertain how this will impact the state of Apex.

Apex Legends players blast Storm Point as worst map ahead of Season 13 changes – Dexerto
Apex Legends players blast Storm Point as worst map ahead of Season 13 changes Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players have labelled Storm Point as the game’s worst map ahead of Season 13, claiming it is slow, boring, and in dire need of adjustments moving forwards. Apex Legends fans have grown accustomed to the variety of environments on offer in Respawn’s battle royale, with new maps dropping every few seasons. First was Kings Canyon; then came World’s Edge with Season 3; then Olympus in Season 7 and, most recently, Storm Point with Season 11. However, general opinion places the sunny Storm Point at the bottom of the four, with Respawn acknowledging that the map needs a few adjustments going forwards even though they have already confirmed new POIs coming with Season 13. About Storm Point: Respawn said they are “”not done”” with the map, and want it to stand “”shoulder-to-shoulder”” with the other maps in the game competitively. pic.twitter.com/2LbNQgO9WS — Apex Legends News (@alphaINTEL) May 2, 2022 A May 7 Reddit post from ‘JustCurvus‘ prompted discussion, asking which map currently in the game leaves the most to be desired. Opinions naturally varied, but a majority of people pointed towards Storm Point, lamenting its slower pace and open areas that prevent cover being found easily. Read More: Everything coming in Apex Legends Season 13 – One player highlighted its pacing as unsuitable for public matches, saying that “[Storm Point is] boring for pubs because you either drop with 47 teams or spend half the map trying to find someone to fight.” Another called out the amount of “useless” POIs, suggesting players are forced towards certain areas where better loot is available. They asked: “Like, who ever goes to Lightning Rod, south of Barometer or between High Point and The Wall?” A third player said: “Storm Point [is the worst]. I’m one for looting but Jesus Christ does it test my patience sometimes…” A final one echoed much of the aforementioned sentiment, saying: “[Storm Point’s] extremely big and super boring if you don’t land hot and don’t have Valkyrie to rotate quicker.” While some players did point towards Kings Canyon, it seems like the changes coming to Storm Point in Season 13 will be generally welcome.

Apex Legends players blast Season 17’s “absolutely awful” solo queue experience – Dexerto
Apex Legends players blast Season 17’s “absolutely awful” solo queue experience Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are not happy with the “absolutely awful” solo queue experience in Ranked throughout Season 17 and aren’t optimistic for next season. Plenty of Apex Legends fans who have been grinding through the Season 17 Ranked mode have not been having the most fun experience, with many complaining about the current rank distribution system and more. Unfortunately, it seems developer Respawn isn’t keen on reverting the new Ranked changes in Season 18, leaving some worried about the future of Apex Legends. Now, players are once again voicing their frustrations at Season 17’s “absolutely awful” Ranked experience — this time taking aim at the solo queue experience overall. Apex Legends players slam Season 17 solo queue experience A post on the Apex Legends subreddit sparked a discussion among the community after a player made a post titled, “Solo Q brothers and sisters, I feel for y’all this season.” The OP explained that the solo queue grind felt “absolutely awful this season” thanks to an alleged variation in player skill and rank distribution. “In Masters lobbies I have teammates that play like straight up Bronzes or Silvers… Before this terrible Ranked change was made, at least you had mostly competent teammates (sometimes) in Plat and higher lobbies.” They ended the post by hoping that Season 18 would bring changes. As mentioned above, Respawn doesn’t seem interested in reverting Ranked back to how it was before Season 17, which some commenters pointed out. Other players shared their experience solo queueing Ranked this season, with many saying they just felt underwhelmed overall. “Yep, [hit] Masters maybe like 2-3 weeks ago and it was terrible. Couldn’t tell you exactly how often, but it legit felt like every other game my teammates flew to a rat spot on the map.” Why play the game if you’re not actually going to PLAY the game. “ While Respawn has confirmed the team is looking to solve Season 17’s ratting problem, the team is more looking to iterate on new changes rather than go backward. Hopefully, those iterations prove positive for Season 18’s solo queue experience too.

Apex Legends players blast Respawn for “shamelessly” expensive skins sale – Dexerto
Apex Legends players blast Respawn for “shamelessly” expensive skins sale Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are furious after Respawn Entertainment added various Legend skins and cosmetic bundles to their End of Year Sale, but many believe they are considerably overpriced. Apex Legends has long been known for having various deals and discounts on various Legend skins and cosmetics in their Item Shop for various occasions. Respawn joined in on the Black Friday sales, as well as introduced the Fall Frenzy Sale for the festive season, which both brought along a range of reduced prices for various skin bundles and packs. However, Apex has since been under fire for their lack of a Christmas event and now players have slammed the developers for making their skins and bundles in the End of Year Sale far too expensive. Apex Legends players slam Respawn for expensive skins sale Apex Legends player StraightFPS posted: “Why is the End of Year Sale so expensive?” They further explained: “the End of Year Sale is crazy, I was looking forward to maybe buying the Voidwalker skin for a steal price, but 2500 is crazy.” The prices of the various Legend skins and bundles from the previous Fall Frenzy Sale ranged from between 1000 – 2,500 Apex Coins. But, they have been massively increased in this sale, and instead have ranged from 2,500 – 6700 coins, which has left many outraged. “They’re so shameless about it, I can’t even be mad anymore, just disheartened. Even after 4+ years, season after season, time and time again, I still foolishly believe this game has potential, but it’s just so poorly mismanaged,” a player responded. “The skins have always been over priced as f*ck, they have never changed” one replied, as another claimed: “The sales are worse now. EA lost FIFA as an Intellectual Property, so they are trying to milk us dry.” Respawn announced their End of Year Sale is set to run between December 27 – January 10, where players can “enjoy limited-time discounts on bundles and so much more.” It is not known whether Apex will change these prices and they have not responded to claims made regarding pricing at the time of writing.

Apex Legends players blast Respawn for ‘abandoning’ Arenas in Season 15 – Dexerto
Apex Legends players blast Respawn for ‘abandoning’ Arenas in Season 15 Respawn/EAApex Legends players have taken a few swipes at Respawn Entertainment, claiming that they’ve “abandoned” the Arenas mode in recent weeks. At the start of Season 9, Respawn Entertainment added another permanent mode to Apex Legends in the form of Arenas. The 3v3 mode, if you still haven’t touched it, works a bit like Counter-Strike where you have to work with an economy each round to decide your loadout. Naturally, it got a lot of love when it was a new addition, and has received a number of updates since. However, it’s been six seasons since Arenas was introduced, and some players have walked away from it. Of course, not everyone has turned their back on the mode, and there are some Apex Legends fans who specifically only play Arenas. However, that’s becoming increasingly difficult due to an apparent lack of support from the devs. Apex Legends players claim Respawn have “abandoned” Arenas mode It was something that Redditor DrixxYBoat flagged on November 29, stating that Respawn have “abandoned” Arenas by “ignoring” the issues that the mode has and not changing things up. “We’ve had nearly the same exact map rotation for several seasons now despite there being other arenas maps in the vault,” they posted. “How do devs expect us to play Party Crasher for 2 years straight and not get bored?” The Redditor pointed to a lack of variety with the circle collapses, no weapon updates in five seasons, as well as problems with matchmaking as a whole. “The community ignores arenas these days, as the matchmaking alone is just… wow, however, the devs ignoring arenas is insane,” they added. A number of other fans echoed those thoughts, questioning the lack of support. “Respawn and abandoning their projects, a tale as old as time,” added one. “Hey now they gave you stickers,” joked another. “Arenas was a wasted opportunity,” commented another. There is clearly an appetite for changes, but it remains to be seen if Respawn will, in fact, give Arenas some love.

Apex Legends players blast ‘lazy’ Season 18 battle pass cosmetics – Dexerto
Apex Legends players blast ‘lazy’ Season 18 battle pass cosmetics Respawn/EAApex Legends fans have hit out at the ‘lazy’ Season 18 battle pass cosmetics which they claim most players won’t ever use. Like many other games, Apex Legends relies on players purchasing skins and other cosmetics for revenue, where over the years we’ve seen tons of cosmetics be added to the popular battle royale. In the case of Apex Legends, there are several ways for players to add some flair to their arsenal, whether it be through loot boxes, the rotational shop, or the seasonal battle pass. Apex Legends fans criticize ‘lazy’ cosmetics While some rare cosmetics such as Heirlooms are treasured by the community, some skins such as the ones featured in the battle pass aren’t too loved by players. In a September 22 Reddit thread, Apex fan ‘HyperionX-X’ put the newest default battle pass skins on blast, claiming most players won’t use them. “I know most people probably don’t care about the default pass, both more than half the stuff in the default and premium is something most people won’t use,” they wrote. “Just a small rant, but getting just slightly tweaked versions of things is annoying, especially stat trackers. Aside from the characters receiving legendary skins, all the other stat trackers are useless.” Similarly, other players agreed, and hit out at the cosmetics, with one player calling them the “laziest skins. Some even claimed they’re so lackluster they don’t even bother looking at them. “Laziest skins, overdose of stupid quips, and sometimes a kinda decent looking banner frame for a legend you don’t use,” said one. “I’ve never had a game release such sh*t-looking trash over and over and over again with people still gladly buying it for them to be a cash flow company.” They added: “Glad I haven’t spent a buck of my money on this game.” “I only buy the battle pass because it gives me a reason to keep playing and I only play so I can have a drink and talk to my friends. The rewards are so lackluster I don’t even bother looking at them,” said another. As usual, players can expect a new battle pass when Season 19 drops on October 31. Although there’s no telling what to expect just yet.

Apex Legends players blast “Inner Recolor” Collection Event – Dexerto
Apex Legends players blast “Inner Recolor” Collection Event EAThe Inner Beast Collection Event has been revealed, and just as soon as it was announced, fans ripped it to shreds. Respawn Entertainment revealed a new collection event headed to Apex Legends, the Inner Beast Collection Event. Falling in line with previous collection events, the upcoming event will feature a bevy of cosmetics to collect, a new mode, and an Heirloom upon collecting all the cosmetics. Yet just as soon as the event was revealed, fans were shredding it to pieces for being another “recolor” event. Apex Legends players blast Inner Beast event To hype up the new event, Respawn Entertainment showed what fans can expect with a trailer. The trailer shows off the new Hunt mode, Octane’s second Heirloom, and plenty of new skins. However, fans took issue with the cosmetics on display with ample cries ripping into everything that was on display. One fan’s remark caught plenty of traction for being a play on words: “Inner recolor event.” Collection Events are always a topic of ire amongst the Apex Legends community, as each new event seemingly introduces new cosmetics that appear to be recolors of previous skins. The Inner Beast event in particular introduces Octane’s second Heirloom, a cause for concern amongst fans. “Giving Octane a recolor while other characters don’t even have a heirloom yet is crazy also recolor skins really,” one fan said. Other comments took issue with character-specific skins, such as Rampart and Bloodhound’s looking eerily similar to previous skins. The Inner Beast Collection Event will go live in Apex Legends on Tuesday March 5, at 10 am PT | 1pm ET | 6pm GMT.

Apex Legends players blast “garbage” servers with unplayable lag – Dexerto
Apex Legends players blast “garbage” servers with unplayable lag XboxApex Legends players are not happy with the game’s servers which are causing matches to become “unplayable.” Apex Legends fans are not happy with the state of the game, whether it be the cost of cosmetics or the current meta of the game. For the game’s entire lifespan, the community has not shied away from voicing their frustration through social media and other platforms. Now, the fans are expressing their anger with the game’s servers and claiming this is an Apex Legends-exclusive issue for them, demanding action from Respawn to improve their servers. Apex Legends players are upset with the game’s servers Take a look through the game’s subreddit, and there will be a plethora of posts about the game’s servers. One such post can sum it all up pretty easily, “Input Lag happening constantly over the last month.” Many other players have responded to the post to express that they have experienced the same thing, with one user commenting: “Yep, apex is so laggy since 3 weeks ago. Too much spike lag rn and they still don’t fix the servers.” Another post has a little bit more of a sarcastic, biting title: “skill issue bro.” In the clip they posted, they get the jump on an enemy and begin landing shots until the connection breaks down and both people begin to teleport around the area. This ends when, somehow, the player is killed. Again, the comments show that this is a common issue. Another fan responded with: “I have no connection issues with any other game. Apex servers are at the bottom of the Atlantic.” These are just two such posts that can be found on the subreddit, and the sheer amount shows that there is something going on with the game. What that issue is, and whether or not it gets fixed, is another matter entirely.

Apex Legends players blast devs for major sound bugs – Dexerto
Apex Legends players blast devs for major sound bugs Respawn EntertainmentA large wave of backlash from the Apex Legends community is targeting the devs for consistent audio issues found throughout the game, particularly with character footsteps. Respawn Entertainment unloaded a ton of content to their players with the release of the Voidwalker patch. Even though the update had bug fixes packaged with it, it still didn’t take care of problems a lot of players would love to have seen fixed. While the second Town Takeover event for Apex Legends has been a terrific success with a ton of players so far, some fans still want the spotlight focused on the burgeoning issues plaguing the game. In a September 5 Reddit post, user ‘catchthirtythree33’ posted a comprehensive plea to the devs to prioritize the audio issues that are only “getting worse.” “Footstep audio is so come and go now, it used to be a problem, now it’s just a joke Respawn,” the user said. “It’s broken, I love this game, I play with a tonne of people, and watch a lot of streamers playing Apex. It’s happening to everyone (at least people who have played the game long enough to notice).” The user said that the issues are “rage inducing” since they lead to untimely deaths that could easily be avoided if the sound queues worked as intended. “It’s a real rage inducing experience to die when you spin around to someone literally walking or running at you less than 3 meters away shooting you to death,” they said. Players then started to add video examples from their games that perfectly showcase instances of missing or muted footsteps from the matches they’ve played. In fact, the thread might have indirectly pushed for some change. Hours after the post gained traction in the Apex Legends subreddit, the dev’s Trello card for the audio issues changed from being under the “Quality of Life Features” to being classified as a “General Bug.” The devs were already working hard on a fix before the thread was posted, but some fans were relieved to at least see activity being done toward the problem. Apex Legends has been plagued by audio issues since Season 1 and even before, so hopefully the next major patch update will have good news on this front.

Apex Legends players blame “meta” characters for Newcastle’s low pick rate – Dexerto
Apex Legends players blame “meta” characters for Newcastle’s low pick rate Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends’ latest character, the heroic defender Newcastle, has fallen far in terms of his pick rate — and some players think they know why. There was a lot of intrigue surrounding Newcastle before Apex Legends Season 13 officially arrived, thanks to his backstory as Bangalore’s brother and speculation around his ability kit. However, since his introduction to the game players seem to have slowly drifted away from him in favor of staple choices like Gibraltar, Wraith, and Octane. Now, the most recent data from Season 13 revealed Newcastle is currently the third least picked Legend, with the consensus from players seeming to think he’s simply outshined by other “meta” Legends. Newcastle third-lowest picked Legend in Season 13 A post on the Apex Legends subreddit started a discussion among the community as to why Newcastle only had a 2.2% pick rate in Season 13, falling over 17% from the start of the season. The post spawned some healthy debate, with some players chalking up his steep fall due to new Legend excitement, while others think his low pick rate is due to his role as a Defense character. However, Reddit user ‘LinceDorado‘ put forward that maybe it’s because “the ‘Meta’ Legends are just too good at what they do. It isn’t even that the other Legends are bad, it’s that the meta ones are better.” Plenty of the comments brought up Gibraltar as a likely factor in Newcastle’s pick rate, with LineDorado even noting that “Newcastle, for all intents and purposes, is just a worse Gibraltar.” Apex Legends’ meta has revolved around Gibby’s shield meta for quite some time, with Respawn continuously trying to find balance changes to shake things up. While some of Newcastle’s kit is reminiscent of Gibby’s, Gibby’s overall kit has cemented his place as the premier Defense Legend in the game. It’s important to note that, as user ‘EKrug_02_22‘ pointed out, “…buffing the Legends will not make them popular…See how Crypto, Rampart, Wattson, etc. [got] buffed, became almost 2x of themselves, [and] still [had] low pick rates?” Though players remain divided on what Newcastle needs to make him shine going forward, it’s clear that he’s currently facing stiff competition from mainstay characters that define Apex Legends’ current meta.

Apex Legends players believe two “underrated” Legends will take over the meta – Dexerto
Apex Legends players believe two “underrated” Legends will take over the meta Respawn EntertainmentThe Apex Legends community is sharing their thoughts on the Legends that aren’t getting the respect they deserve. Apex Legends offers a large cast of characters to choose from for matches, each one bringing unique abilities and skills that can help in a firefight. Naturally, the game’s fanbase has always had their favorites that dominate every single match in the game, with some Legends being left on the sidelines. However, Apex Legends players believe some of these characters are far better than people think they are, and could even change the game’s meta entirely in its 20th season. Apex Legends fans share characters that deserve more respect The conversation is happening over on the Apex Legends subreddit, where a player asked the community: “Who’s the most underrated Legend of Season 20? And why?” Their choice is Valkyrie: “But what stood out to me is Valkyrie because her perks can bring her back to her pre-nerf version of her. Where her tactical can have improved handling or more fuel. Plus, her Ultimate can go as high as she used to when you reach Level 2.” However, the majority of the community believes there are two other Legends who are far more deserving of respect: Vantage and Rampart. The top comment in the thread mentions Vantage due to the following reasons: “Scanning recon and control beacons gives all the info you need to play efficiently.” Another user mentions how this has been the case since Vantage came to the game, even to the point of her getting a buff that “made her even better.” Rampart has numerous mentions in the thread, with one Apex Legends player saying: “The ranked meta seems to be extremely fast and third party heavy so a defense legend can really slow down third party advances.” Some users say they have begun winning more matches in the game since becoming Rampart mains, speaking to their viability in the game’s meta. While many Apex Legends players will have their opinions about who they think should get more love, it is clear that Vantage and Rampart are making their mark on the meta.

Apex Legends players believe game is better off with no Rampage or Sentinel Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players claim the battle royale is actually in a better spot with no Sentinel or Rampage in the weapon pool, with both weapons temporarily removed by Respawn to fix unlimited charge exploits. Apex Legends’ weapon pool has long been a fan-favorite aspect of the battle royale. Not only do different ammo types and categories encourage different play styles, but weapons with unique profiles and features reward players who spend time with certain guns. Amongst the more unique weapons in the game are the Sentinel and Rampage. The former is a bolt-action sniper rifle while the latter is a strong but cumbersome light machine gun. Both, though, use a unique charge mechanic to deal more damage against enemies. However, players recently discovered an ‘unlimited charge’ exploit, which essentially negated both weapons’ charge delay. Because of the glitch’s prevalence, Respawn completely removed both weapons from the game to fix it. While only a temporary change, some players appear to prefer the BR without them. Player S_for_Stuart said: “Anyone else finding the game far less frustrating and therefore more enjoyable with the Rampage currently out? Feels like you need superior gunskill to win again.” Their sentiment was echoed by many on the game’s subreddit, who highlighted the greater variety in weapon choice they have seen with the incredibly strong Rampage LMG sidelined. Others, though, suggested they were missing the charge weapons and that most players have simply picked up the R301 or Flatline in the LMG’s absence. While this is true, plenty were also happy with the slower TTK that accompanies lesser weapons. The Rampage, in particular, can drop players incredibly quickly if deployed well. Despite some of the claims from players, the charge weapons’ removal was always temporary, and there are no indications Respawn are considering keeping them out any longer than necessary. Rampaging around Storm Point will soon be the norm once again.

Apex Legends players believe ALGS hacks could actually save the game – Dexerto
Apex Legends players believe ALGS hacks could actually save the game Respawn/EAApex Legends players think that the intrusive hack that took place in the middle of the ALGS Finals could, in fact, “save” the battle royale. The North American Pro League Split Finals came to a sudden halt on March 17, as several players were hacked and given cheats in the middle of a game. DarkZero’s Genburten was the first to be targeted, where out of nowhere in Game Four the player was given the ability to see every player clear as day with wallhacks. The match was reset, only for TSM’s ImperialHal to become the next victim. Suddenly noticing that his aim was snappy, the streamer came to the conclusion he was given aimbot. The ALGS Finals were subsequently postponed, and several players’ accounts were banned. Apex Legends players think hack can save the game Despite the bizarre and concerning situation, some Apex Legends players think that the hacks on March 17 could actually be the saving grace for the ongoing cheating issue in Apex at large. Although some described it as the “most embarrassing thing to ever happen in Apex history,” others are hopeful that it will prompt the devs to take action with even more haste. “This might actually save Apex,” one player said. “All the complaining didn’t do anything so hopefully showing how easy it is to do on the biggest stage is gonna sound some alarms.” However, they noted that EA laid off 5% of its staff, roughly 670 jobs, which included layoffs from the Respawn team. “But with layoffs, I bet it’s gonna be a band-aid fix with another collection event,” they said. “It’s honestly nice to see this happen. Not because I hate any of the people affected, but because it may serve as a wake-up call of Respawn/EA to do something about it,” wrote another player. “It’s been done on such a large scale and spread to such a large audience in no time that it should be impossible to ignore.” The hacker, known to the community as ‘Destroyer2009’ alleged they were using an RCE exploit to breach the Easy Anti-Cheat. At the time of writing, Respawn is yet to address the hack.

Apex Legends players beg Respawn to bring back Kings Canyon in Season 4 – Dexerto
Apex Legends players beg Respawn to bring back Kings Canyon in Season 4 Apex Legends players are calling for the return of the classic ‘Kings Canyon’ map after developers Respawn Entertainment removed it from the game for the start of Season 3: Meltdown. Many Apex Legends players have been enjoying the change to the new World’s Edge map that was released in Season 3. However, there are also many fans who would like to see the return of the arena they grew to love since the game first launched on February 4, 2019. During the early stages of Season 3, players were able to return to Kings Canyon for a limited time in the Shadowfall LTM, but now they want the iconic map to return for good. As Season 3 is starting to come to a close, one Reddit user u/jdsexy called for the return of the arena in Season 4 and received overwhelming support from others in the community. “Season ends in 30 days. Let’s let the devs know how bad we want KC back; at least as an option,” the player expressed, asking to have a choice of maps in-game, “I don’t mind World’s Edge, but I want to be able to choose which map I want to play.” Although many players seem to be eager to see the classic arena return, some still remained hesitant about the potential change and pointed out that the player base would be divided if players were given a choice of maps, suggesting a random queue playlist instead. After Kings Canyon was initially removed from Apex Legends, Respawn developer Drew McCoy revealed that there was a possibility that Kings Canyon could make its return if enough players called for it. Comment byu/jdsexy from discussion inapexlegends “It doesn’t mean that Kings Canyon is gone forever though, at launch it’s going to be World’s Edge only,” McCoy explained, “then based on feedback from players, and the data we can get, we have a lot of different levers we can pull to see what we can do about reintroducing Kings Canyon.” It is unknown yet what Respawn has planned for the upcoming Season 4, which kicks off on the one-year anniversary of the game on February 4, although fans won’t have to wait too much longer to find out.

Apex Legends players beg Respawn to add Skull Town as Arenas map – Dexerto
Apex Legends players beg Respawn to add Skull Town as Arenas map Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends players are asking Respawn to bring back Skull Town as a stage in the game’s new Arenas 3v3 mode. One of the biggest additions to Apex in recent memory is coming with Season 9 — the new “Arenas” mode that plays like Valorant or CSGO than the battle royale we’ve gotten to know in Apex. Brand new maps will be added just for the 3v3 game mode, and some players have made it clear they want to see one of the classic Apex Legends locations — Skull Town — to return as a stage for it as well. Dropping into Skull Town might very well be the first memory a lot of Apex players have with the game. While the area might be gone and replaced with the Offshore Rig in Salvage now, it still holds a special place in our hearts. With Arenas bringing a larger number of smaller maps, the possibility is ripe for Respawn to add all kinds of environments, and it seems a good percentage of players wouldn’t mind seeing good old Skull Town included in the rotation. Read More: What is Talos in Apex Legends? – For an example, a post on Reddit by user Firestorm8570 simply asking if anyone else would like to see Skull Town added to Apex’s new mode, along with a rough idea of what it could look like, amassed over 25,000 upvotes and climbing in just a few hours. While it’s certainly a popular notion, plenty of people questioned how the zone would fare in a 3v3 mode, compared to battle royale when you can have multiple enemies all over the place. But, there’s nothing saying Respawn couldn’t retouch Skull Town to make it flow better for the Arenas style of play, if they do ever decide to put it in. We also have not had the chance to try Arenas out for ourselves either, so who’s to know whether or not Skull Town would make a good map or not? You don’t have to wait long though, as the new mode will be going live with Season 9: Legacy on May 4.

Apex Legends players beg Respawn for server & audio fixes: “Fix your game before it dies” – Dexerto
Apex Legends players beg Respawn for server & audio fixes: “Fix your game before it dies” Respawn EntertainmentAs Apex Legends continues to wallow under the weight of widespread server issues and dubious audio performance, players are once again pleading with developer Respawn to address the game’s major pain-points. While Season 10 of Apex Legends saw a massive increase in players, and more exposure on social media thanks to an influx of content creators from other titles, the game’s tenth season has also been plagued by several longstanding issues. With complaints from the community piling up, Respawn has done their best to address the in-game problems, but the rampant server disconnects and audio issues continue to impact the battle royale’s performance. Despite Respawn’s best attempts to resolve those problems, the community has once again taken to social media and voiced their concerns, going so far as to say that the combination of audio and server issues might just be enough to bring down the highly successful title. Player frustration once again boiled over on social media when one passionate fan expressed their concerns with the game’s most prevalent pain-points during Season 10: server issues and audio performance. “We have been complaining about audio and the lack thereof since season 0. You keep bandaiding it, but it’s still nonexistent and unbearable,” the player’s post began. They then expressed their anger over the handling of Apex’s servers. “Months ago there was [a] massive demand for better servers. You [just] slapped a few bandaids on, and told us it’ll be much better,” they called out. “This game is in its best position since release,” the poster remarked, before continuing, “Big-name streamers are playing it. Innumerable new players. Yet, the game doesn’t work. So I will reiterate my point: fix your game, before it dies.” “Stop bandaiding gaping wounds,” they went on, once again referring to what many players view as ineffective solutions to the BR’s most serious problems. “The game will die if this continues.” The player ended their post with one final criticism: “We spend record [amounts of money] every season. How about you use some to fix the big issues permanently, instead of making weapon charms, $20 animal skins, and in-game Bloodhound lore missions.” That Reddit post received plenty of support from other players, and gained nearly 7k upvotes at the time of writing. With the game’s servers largely unplayable for a portion of Emergence, and continued questionable audio performance, many players feel the title’s general health is worse now than ever. In the past, both players and pros called for an “Operation Health” season, where Respawn would work to address longstanding issues within Apex while pulling back on their seasonal content, but the developer shot that idea down while explaining why it isn’t feasible. Despite Respawn’s continued work on improving both server and audio performance, the Apex Legends community seems to be reaching a breaking point, with some players apparently feeling that if these issues aren’t resolved, it could mean the death of Apex itself.

Apex Legends players beg for Three Strikes LTM to stay as permanent mode – Dexerto
Apex Legends players beg for Three Strikes LTM to stay as permanent mode Respawn/EAApex Legends players have pleaded to the Respawn devs for the popular Three Strikes LTM to stay as permanent game mode. We’ve seen many limited-time modes come and go since Apex Legend’s release, with the latest of them being the addition of the Three Strikes LTM alongside the battle royale’s recent Post Malone crossover event in early November. The Three Strikes LTM gives players three strikes before they’re eliminated for good, which many claim has “brought back joy” to the game. The mode was received so well that the devs even brought it back for a short period. However, players are now pleading for the mode to stay permanently as another way to enjoy the popular battle royale. Apex Legends players want Three Strikes LTM to stay In a recent November 28 Reddit thread, one player called for the devs to keep the LTM. “Keep Three Strikes to permanently refine gun skill and movement please,” the player wrote, alongside sharing a video showing off their skill with the Kraber. Others in the replies are keen for the game mode to stay too, with many players claiming they’ll miss the LTM once it’s gone. “Just won my last game before it’s over, gonna miss this mode,” said one. Some went further and claimed that Three Strikes is “infinitely better” than Mixtape, Apex’s permanent playlist with a rotation of Team Deathmatch, Control, and Gun Run. Not only that, but many have called on the devs to make more “wacky” game modes, explaining it helps the casual player base. While the LTM is now gone, there’s always a chance we could see the mode return over holiday periods. Furthermore, it wouldn’t be out of the question for it to return permanently given how much it was loved.

Apex Legends players beg devs for simple Valkyrie Ult change – Dexerto
Apex Legends players beg devs for simple Valkyrie Ult change Respawn EntertainmentApex Legends fans are begging developer Respawn Entertainment to make one simple change to Valkyrie’s Ultimate after players keep making the same mistake. Apex Legends Season 20 is in full swing, and with the new season came plenty of Legend changes. However, the recon Legend Valkyrie managed to make it to the next season without any big changes to her kit—much to the chagrin of some players. Now, members of the Apex community have begged Respawn to make one simple tweak to Valkyrie’s Ultimate ability after players have repeatedly made the same mistake in matches. Apex Legends fans want simple Valk Ult change A post on the Apex Legends subreddit sparked a discussion among fans after one player made a Public Service Announcement to the community. The OP said, “PSA: From a Valk main, please stop trying to jump onto Valk’s ult. Also for devs: Please let players jump onto Valk’s ult.” The player explained, “From my games it’s easily more than a 50% rate of me priming Valk’s ult, teammates running up to Valk and then jumping, sailing through her when the connect interaction fails to work and the other 2 of us have to wait that extra second for them to turn around and come back.” For those who may not be familiar with Valk’s kit, her Skyward Dive ability lets the squad shoot up into the air and reposition somewhere else. It’s important to note that the other squad members must manually attach to Valk before launch. It seems many players try to simply jump into the Ult, which causes issues with the interact button prompt. Plenty of fans in the comments owned up to doing this during games. “Well that explains why it never attaches on the first try,” said one player. “I’ll do better.” While many thought that automatically attaching nearby teammates would be a good change, some players were cautious about the idea. “I feel being able to jump on would lead to issues w/ accidentally being forced onto it. It should be intentional IMO.” Whether or not Respawn changes Valkyrie’s Ult to include auto-attaching remains to be seen. Regardless, the recon Legend is still making waves during Season 20.

Apex Legends players baffled by teleporting melee glitch – Dexerto
Apex Legends players baffled by teleporting melee glitch Respawn EntertainmentWhether it’s Pathfinder going invisible or Octane players getting stuck in a constant state of double-jumping, there have been some seriously strange occurrences in the game recently. There’s another one to add to the list though with the arrival of a new Apex Legends melee glitch. It’s no secret that the Apex Legends’ melees are a bit wonky. When you attempt to hit a player with your fists, the lunge distance carries you an almost unbelievable range. Of course, it’s hard to know if you’ll actually hit the player, as there doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of consistency in the game’s targeting system. This part of the game has been the biggest subject of criticism over its lifespan and things only seem to be getting worse. In this clip posted on the Apex Legends subreddit, Redditor eClics is chased through a building and ultimately meleed to death by a Loba who seems to teleport through a closing door to hit them. Insane Apex Legends melee glitch This is only one clip of many that have gained traction online in recent months and fans are starting to get frustrated. One commenter said “doors do a better job at knocking my lifeline drone around than block[ing] bullets” and that definitely looks true in this case. There is an answer to how these things happen, but it’s not one that’s likely to please the player base. In a statement on Respawn’s website, they describe this problem as a result of lag compensation that is intentionally built into the game. “It’s probably due to unavoidable variation in latency between players and the way our system distributes it,” the statement says. “Still, we’re committed to reducing this at every opportunity we get. Not only do we want everyone to have a fair experience, we also want you all to have a fun one.” It’s unclear how much Respawn will be able to reduce these kinds of bizarre incidents in the long run, especially if problems like the server outages after Patch 10.1 continue to persist.
